What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Funny. That doesn’t look like General Hospital. Unless they’ve combined it with The Apprentice. Luckily, I don’t miss too much. Rather than tussle with the online video, I leave you to make up whatever you want about the beginning.

In an examining room, Valentin tells Finn that Spoon Island has been quarantined because of West Nile virus. Finn doesn’t buy it, but tells him sit and roll up his sleeve. He asks if Valentin has had any flu-like symptoms, headaches, or disorientation, but he feels fine. He says since he there, he might as well get tested. As Finn prepares the syringe, Valentin suggests Finn might take this opportunity to kill him. Finn says it’s just a simple blood test, but don’t distract him. If he does something wrong, it could be fatal, although his death would be fast and painless.

Oh nice. Commercials, one scene, and then more commercials.

Peter tells Obrecht that James needs all the family he can get. She says Maxie has a mother and a stepfather, but Peter says no one loves him like she does. She says Maxie tolerates her because she’s Nathan’s mother, and everyone else would be ecstatic if they never laid eyes on her again. The only person who enjoys her company is Franco, who knows what it’s like to be despised. Peter thinks she should follow his example, and turn herself in. Obrecht says everything he’s telling her is futile. She doesn’t care what happens to her. He asks, why? Because she blames herself for Nathan’s death?

At the MetroCourt, Nina tells Maxie that she doesn’t care about Valentin’s professions of love and incredible surprises. She refuses to forgive him. Maxie says she’s sorry. Nina’s take-out food comes, and Maxie says there’s no way it’s all for one person. Nina says, comfort food, and tells Maxie to get back to James and give him kisses from Aunt Nina.

Finn asks if Valentin has heard anything from Peter, adding that Anna would like to know where he is, or at least how he is. Valentin says he’s heard nothing since they last met at the PCPD. Finn says, since Valentin broke him out, but Valentin insists he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He’ll let Anna know right away if Peter makes contact.

Elizabeth can tell something is on Franco’s mind. He sees Finn, who tells him that he showed a photo of Peter to Wyatt, who couldn’t ID him. Franco says maybe Obrecht was playing dominatrix with a consensual partner, but Finn says it’s more likely Wyatt didn’t recognize Peter because it’s been weeks since he’s been under Obrecht’s power.

Jason and Jake sit in the park, since the Woodchucks game was canceled. Jason says that makes two; maybe the third time is the charm. Jason asks if Jake believes in fate. Jake isn’t sure, and asks, what about him? Jason says sometimes things happen that seem random, but when you look back, maybe it was some kind of plan. He believes opportunities come along, and we make choices that determine our fate. Unless it’s out of our hands. He asks if Jake called the friend he was bringing, to tell them the game was canceled. Jake says it wasn’t a friend. It was Drew. And here he comes.

Obrecht says she’s not at fault in Nathan’s death; Peter is. He tells her that he was forced into a corner. If she had told Nathan the truth, he would have had time to prepare, and make a plan. Obrecht wanted him to be free of the knowledge that Faison was his father. Peter says he had the right to know. He could have prepared, and made a plan to keep his family safe. She says she knows it – every minute of every day, and he tells her to stop taking it out on him. She says he has his own share of the blame, but he says he didn’t know Nathan was his brother. She was the only one knew, and she didn’t tell anyone. Even if she kills him, she’ll never escape the guilt. She runs out the door. He struggles against his bonds, and makes frustrated sounds.

Franco says Elizabeth is right, and he needs to tell her. At this point, he’s not sure she wants to know, but Elizabeth says, tell her. He says that Nathan’s death hit Obrecht hard, and she’s likely doing something illegal. Elizabeth says, let’s hear it.

At the PCPD, Curtis says now that they have the security footage, they should be able to see the laundry cart better. Sam adds, and who’s pushing it. She tells Jordan that only a few places sell the Sesso Sesso brand shoe, and only one in Port Charles. She’s going to talk to the owner. Jordan asks if they have anyone in particular on their radar, and Curtis says, Obrecht. She has a motive, and it’s not like she has no experience in the area. Sam says she was behaving weirdly at the shower. Jordan says she noticed that too, but they need more leverage. Finn walks in, saying he has information that he’d certain is about Peter.

Jake thanks Drew for coming. Drew says Jake asked him; that’s how it works. He hadn’t said his dad was coming too, but Drew is cool with it. Jason tells him it was his birthday present, so he could invite who he wanted. Jake has a question for Jason, and tells him it’s okay if he doesn’t want to answer. He asks if it was hard, coming back after being gone for so long, when so much changed. Jake says sometimes it’s hard for him too, remembering how weird he was. He was mean to his brothers. Jason says it’s not his fault, and Drew says no one blames him. Jake says they’re like a team now. When Aiden has nightmares, he comes to him instead of bothering their mom and Franco. Drew calls him a good big brother, but he says it works the other way too, when he’s upset, Cameron talks him down. Now he has his two dads together. He knows Drew is really his uncle, but their all family, and that’s the best thing. Jason says they both love him for sure.

On the phone, Maxie tells Amy to get there when she can. An employee asks her where the manager’s office is. It’s his first day. Maxie wonders where she knows him from, and he says he’s an actor. He’s playing Conrad in Bye, Bye, Birdie now, but he was Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast last year. He’s also the pseudo officer who hung the sign for Nina. Maxie says she didn’t recognize him without his clock face. She took her daughter, who loved it. She tells him where the office is, and tells him, break a leg, not a glass. Valentin walks in, and Maxie says Nina isn’t there. She says he thinks he’s being romantic, but he’s being selfish. If he loved her like he claims, he’d leave her alone.

Peter struggles some more. Nina arrives, and asks where Obrecht is. Peter says she didn’t tell him her plans, but when she left, she seemed upset. Maybe she’s tired of this. The way she nags at him to confess, he’d rather die. He tells her that Obrecht’s notebook is missing. If it’s in the hands of the PCPD, it’s only a matter of time before they find him.

Finn gives Jordan the notebook, telling her about Wyatt finding a man tied to a bed in a cabin.

Franco tells Elizabeth that Wyatt never saw her face, but he recognized Obrecht’s voice and shoes.

Finn says the notebook is from the cabin. It seems to be notes for a new story, using characters from The Severed Branch. Sam says that’s the book Peter wrote, using Faison’s alias, PK Sinclair.

Franco says it seems to have something to do with a sequel.

Finn explains that he and Franco went there. It’s northeast of the campgrounds. When they arrived, Obrecht showed up. They entered the cabin together, but there was no one there.

Franco says they saw restraints, but Obrecht said she was involved in some kind of consensual sexual adventure, and it was her personal love shack. He doesn’t want to believe she was holding Peter captive, and Finn showed Wyatt a picture of Peter, but he couldn’t ID it, but the more he thinks about it, the more he thinks Finn’s theory makes sense. Elizabeth says if she’s trying to avenge Nathan’s death, he knows what he needs to do. Go to the PCPD now.

Jordan says she’s going to the cabin. Finn tells Sam and Curtis that he thought he was overreacting. Curtis says they were starting to suspect Obrecht too. Sam says it’s not up to her to avenge Nathan’s death.

Jake talks about his batting averages, and Jason says maybe he’ll make it all the way this year. Jake says their seats were perfect; he might have caught the ball. Drew says he has the best hands in Little League. Jake says that’s because they’ve practiced a thousand hours. Drew says he should probably go back to work and be a boring adult. He leaves, and Jason says it sounds like Jake is quite a ball player. Jake says he needs more power in his throws, and Jason suggests they play catch, since Jake brought his ball. Drew wanders over to the hot dog cart and gets something to eat. He suddenly realizes he has mustard all over his back. He turns around, and Margaux is there holding a squeezy mustard bottle. She says, sorry; it was her.

Maxie tells Valentin that Nina seems jumpy and distracted, and isn’t coming to see James. She’s twisted up, and doesn’t know what she’s doing. Valentin thinks she’s been her usual confident self, but Maxie says she’s not showing how much pain he caused her. No amount of ad space can make up for him giving an innocent child to Faison. He took an innocent child, and gave him to a psycho. Her heart breaks for Peter. He’s done terrible things, but at least he has an excuse; look who raised him. Valentin says he had no idea, but Maxie asks how hard it is to do that math. Nice, adoring parents versus a murderer; who has the better home? She suggests he put Nina’s needs first, and get out of her orbit. Let her heal.

Nina tells Peter the police aren’t going to find him. He says Valentin will. Nina says he thinks Spoon Island is quarantined. Peter says he’s known Valentin longer than she has, and he doesn’t miss anything. He picks up inconsistencies, and it won’t take long for him to figure it out. Nina says he’s booked at the MetroCourt. Peter says it’s time to admit this was a mistake. Kidnapping will turn into murder, and hen something else. She’s getting in deeper and deeper, and it’s not going to end well for either of them unless she turns it around.

Curtis tells Jordan if Obrecht has Peter, he could be in danger. Jordan wants to talk to Wyatt, and thanks Finn for coming forward. He hopes Peter is alive for Anna’s sake. He asks them to let him know what they find call. He almost crosses paths with Franco out in the station, but Franco ducks into somewhere. Curtis asks Sam what went down with her and Drew last night.

Margaux tries to clean the back of Drew’s shirt. She says since the Woodchuck game was canceled, she thought she’d eat a hot dog. She tells him that she’ll cover the cleaning, but he says it’s no big deal. He’ll buy a new shirt if it doesn’t come out. She hands him her card, and says to send her the bill. He says, she’s the new DA?

Jason tells Jake he has a good arm, and by the end of the season, he’ll be at home plate. Jake says he’s working on it. Jake asks Jason if he thinks Sam is worth going after. Jason says she’s great and amazing, but what happens in the future isn’t up to him.

Drew finds out that Margaux is a Woodchucks fan, and she says maybe they’ll run into each other at a game. She can buy him a hot dog. She tells him to keep in touch, but he says it’s just a shirt. She says the good news is, he looks good in yellow. He’s like, hmm…

Jason tells Jake that sometimes people need time to think; to be alone and think things through, so they don’t’ make a mistake. Sam is doing that, and it’s out of his hands. Jake doesn’t think they’re talking about the same thing talking. He was talking about a baseball player, and Jason thinks he’s talking about Sam Sam. Jason suggests they play some more catch.

Sam tells Curtis that she and Drew were able to attend the wedding without the world ending. It’s getting easier. Curtis thinks maybe it’s time for both of them to move on. Jordan comes back, and says the cabin was abandoned, but the restraints are still there. It looks like there had been a captive. Curtis asks if it’s enough to arrest Obrecht, but Jordan says they need to collect evidence. If they find proof that Peter was there, they have everything they need.

Elizabeth sees Finn, and says Franco told her everything. She knows about Obrecht and their visit to the cabin. He says now the police know too. He gave the notebook to them. She says Franco decided to go to them on his own a little while ago. Finn says Franco must gave gotten there after he left.

Jordan says, right now, the case is circumstantial. She needs concrete evidence for an arrest, but she has enough for questioning.

Franco sees the quarantine sign on the docks, and says, not suspicious at all. Obrecht walks out onto the docks.

Peter asks Nina what she thinks is going to happen. They might be good for another day; then what? Obrecht is unhinged, and she’s not stopping until he’s dead. People are questioning things. How does she know she isn’t a suspect? The walls are closing in on her – on him too. What is he going to do the next time he’s alone with Obrecht, and she tries to kill him since Nina isn’t there? Nina tells him, shut up. She has this. He says, what? She says, a way out for both of them.

Maxie tells Valentin to leave Nina alone. He says, if that’s what she wants, but he doesn’t think it is. She asks if he knows better what Nina wants than Nina does. He says he regrets giving Peter to Faison, but he can’t change that, and he’s not giving up on his wife because of it. Maxie tells him not to kid himself; she’s already gone. Maxie leaves, and he sits at the bar. He sees the bartender, and says, I know you.

Tomorrow, Valentin wants to know who the bartender works for, Franco tells Obrecht he’s there to help, and Nelle asks Chase if he thinks Michael is setting her up.

The Haves and The Have Nots

Candace looks out the window, gathers her stuff, and jets. She sees RJ in the hallway, and they go into another room. She says Oscar is. She pushed him out of a widow. She needs RJ to write a note, and not get fingerprints on it. I can’t take it anymore. I can’t do this life anymore. I love you I’m doing this for you to put you out of your misery. She tells him to put it on the desk in Oscar’s room. RJ says he doesn’t have the key, but she knows he’s stolen the master.

RJ tells Candace it’s done. He asks how the hell it happened. Candace says Oscar slammed her in the elevator, choked her, and hit her. He stole four million dollars from her because he thought he deserved it, and she stole it back, plus interest. RJ says he didn’t deserve it, and says she’s a bad bitch. He tells her that he’ll comfort her in this tough time, and starts to take his suspenders down. She says he needs to get back to work, and find out what the police are saying, and put his suspenders back on.

Kathryn wipes her eyes, and gets it together. She gets out of the car, and goes back into the police station.

The desk sergeant tells Hanna that Benny isn’t there; he’s in the patrol car. Hanna sees Kathryn, who says she needs to talk to her. She needs to hear this – Benny didn’t hurt that man. Hanna asks how she knows, and Kathryn says, because Wyatt did it. It was a drug deal gone bad. She’s sorry. Hanna asks how long she’s known, and Kathryn says, not long. Hanna asks if Kathryn knew the night she told her about Benny. She says she knew Wyatt hurt someone, but not who. It wasn’t like last time. She came to turn him in. She says Marty is on his way. Hanna says Kathryn needs to tell the police, and Kathryn says they already know. Hanna thanks her for telling the truth this time. Kathryn says she can’t breathe, and Hanna knows it hurts. She had to do this with Candace when they were looking for Quincy’s murderer. Kathryn asks if it gets better. She knows she’s doing the right thing, but it’s her child, her baby. Hanna says all she can do to help him now, is let him pay for his crimes. They do what they can to raise these children. Kathryn tells her, when Marty gets there, he’ll get Benny out. She has to talk to Wyatt. Hanna promises it will get better.

At the Artisian, Jim and Gia come down to the lobby. The place is crawling with police and firemen. Gia asks Jim what’s going on, but Jim has no idea. They part company, and Gia calls George. She says she got Jim talking about the murder; he trusts her. She doesn’t know when she’s seeing him again, but they have to be ready.

George tells Sarah that they’re Informant is ready to wear a wire. He says a body fell out of a window at the Artisian, and he needs to know what’s going on. When he leaves, Sarah calls Jim. She tells him there’s a wire. He says, if he goes down, they all go down together. She says that’s why she’s telling him; bye.

Jim sees Justin in the lobby. He calls Justin Officer Shut-the-hell-up, and says, remember him? They met at his son’s house. He wants information about what’s happening, or he’ll bring charges against Justin so fast it will make his head spin. Justin says they have a jumper. Jim asks, who? and Justin tells him, Oscar Whatever-his-last-name-is (my words). He asks if Jim knew him, and Jim says, no. Justin says it’s a sad story; there was a suicide note. The DA is on the way to check it out. Justin sees Jeffrey in the elevator as the doors are closing, and he watches what floor Jeffrey is going to.

Erica explains something about teacups to David. He suggests they exchange the furniture, and she says, for what? She likes his house. He says, their house; he means it. She says she’ll get a cab and go to the store, but he tells her to come with him. Outside he shows her a new car with a bow on it. It’s not one of those really gigantic ones, more like an extra-large regular bow. She says she has insurance, but he tells her to keep the money. She tells him that she loves it. Jim pulls up, and David introduces his lady. Jim calls her the mystery woman, and she says, is she? Jim says he’s Just meeting her, and he’s David’s best friend. She says he’s making sure she’s not crazy. Jim says David wouldn’t hang out with crazy, let alone marry one. Erica goes back inside.

David asks, what’s going on? Jim asks what is it with the people David hangs with. Not Erica, Oscar. He killed himself. David says, no way, and Jim says, way. He saw him; he did it. And Jim didn’t even get his money yet. David says he knows Benny has it, but he’s in jail. He’s been keeping tabs on him since he got involved with Veronica. Apparently, he robbed a Malone. Vinnie Malone; he has a bar. Jim asks if he can get in to see him, and David says he can make a call. Jim says, call him now; he’s on his way to the station. David looks puzzled.

Erica asks David want to go for a ride, but he has to take care of some business. He suggests she go to the store while he’s gone, but she says she wants to do it together. He says he won’t be long. As he gets in his car, a dude across the street pretends to be doing some work, but is watching.

Veronica’s secret phone rings. Dude says he’s on It, and she tells him, don’t call. He says he thought she’d want to know he bought her a new car. She says to make that his play, and he says he thought she’d say that. It’s going down in a couple hours. It will be big; no turning back. She says, good; do what she told him to. He says, done, and she says, goodbye. Her other phone rings, and she tells someone she’ll meet them there. On her way out, she tells her maid, Alice, to do something with her blind ass.

Benny says he ain’t talking to anyone but a lawyer. Jim asks if he recognizes him. Benny says, he’s Jim Cryer. Is he his lawyer? Jim says, kind of, and Benny says he didn’t do this. Jim says he knows it, and Benny says, get him out. Jim says it’s not that simple. There are witnesses; he has a problem. Benny says he didn’t do it, and Jim says he know because he knows who did. Benny says, tell them, but Jim says Benny has something that belongs to him, almost nine million dollars. His sister took it from him, and put it in an account with Benny’s name. Benny pretends he doesn’t know what Jim is talking about, but Jim tells him, don’t play dumb. Or maybe it runs in the family. He knows the Malones well. They’ll take everything he has, everything his family has, and everything he ever wanted. And they’ll laugh while they’re doing it. They have a reputation to uphold. He can be the guy who gets him out or leaves his ass in jail to get killed one of two ways. He gives the money back now or down for this. Benny suggests he break Jim’s neck right here and now. Hanna and Marty come in, and Hanna asks what Jim is doing there. He says he’s having a conversation with her son, and she wonders about what? Jim says a come to Jesus moment. Marty says Benny is free to go. They found the real perp. Jim asks who it is, and Marty tells him he’s afraid it’s his son. Kathryn turned him in. Hanna says she had a come to Jesus moment. When Jim is gone, Hanna says Benny is going to tell her what that was about.

Justin calls Jeffrey, who answers the phone, what is it? Justin asks if that’s all he has to say. Jeffrey says he’s tired, and Justin asks where he is. Jeffrey says, the place he ransacked. Justin is sorry about that, but wants to see him. Jeffrey’s not in the mood, and Justin asks how long he’s going to punish him. Jeffrey says he’s not punishing him, even though he needs to be punished. Justin asks who’s going to do that, and Jeffrey says, goodbye. He’s tired and not doing this. He ends the call. Justin calls back, and listens at each door as the phone rings. RJ comes out of the elevator with champagne. He goes to Jeffrey’s door, and Jeffrey lets him in. Justin watches.

RJ asks if Jeffrey is enjoying his stay. Jeffrey says he lives there. RJ guesses he must like it at the hotel, and says it’s a nice bed, as he sits on it. Jeffrey asks what he wants; he’s an escort. RJ says he’s insulting, and asks him to have a drink. Jeffrey doesn’t want one, and says RJ needs to leave. RJ says he just got there. There’s a knock at the door, and RJ has slipped off his suspenders. Apparently, this is his come-hither move. It’s Justin, who says RJ has been in there a long time. He recognizes RJ; he arrested him. He sees what’s going on; they exchanged numbers in the cell. RJ says he just came up with room service. Justin thinks he’s lying, and should get his ass out of there. RJ starts to leave, and Justin asks why the bed is messed up, why there’s a towel there, and why RJ’s suspenders are down. I think Justin is messed up, especially since RJ was just sitting on the bed, and it’s barely wrinkled. Justin tells Jeffrey that RJ jas a record longer than his arm; robbery, threatening to rob a guy. He’s taking the champagne bottle to the lab. If there are any drugs in it; he’ll arrest his ass.

Justin tells Jeffrey that he should be glad he was there. Jeffrey asks what it takes to leave him alone. Justin says, his death. Jeffrey told him to stop threatening him, but Justin says he just meant, till death do us part. Jeffrey goes into the bathroom, and closes the door.

Benny gets home, and Hanna asks if he’s not going to tell her what Jim said? He doesn’t want her in this. He has to talk to Candace, and Hanna asks if she got the money from him. She says it never stops. He asks to use the car, and she says, fine, and gives him the keys. He drives off.

Hanna is about to make a call, when Veronica and a guy we don’t know come by, looking at the house numbers. Hanna asks what she’s doing there, and Veronica asks what she’s doing there? Hanna say she lives there. Veronica says, it’s a step up, and Hanna says Benny isn’t there. Carry her ho’ing ass elsewhere. Veronica says she’s not here for him, and asks if Melissa is there. She has a court order. She reads from it like Hanna doesn’t understand English, saying that Melissa has to talk to this man so he can evaluate her sanity. She says they have a court order to check the premises, and tells Hanna to go in and get Melissa. She doesn’t want to mess up Hanna’s dime store furniture. Hanna rings the bell, and Veronica asks if she doesn’t have a key. Hanna calls up for Melissa, saying someone is there for her.

Melissa comes out, and Veronica introduces the doctor, saying he’s going to take her to get help. Melissa says she doesn’t need help, but Veronica says she tried to harm herself and Veronica’s grandbaby; she’s trying to protect her. Melissa says she doesn’t give a damn about her. She’s not going anywhere. Veronica ruined her life. Veronica says, stop being dramatic. Hanna says Veronica isn’t coming in; go get the police. Veronica asks the doctor to call them, and Hanna asks if she has a warrant. Veronica wants to know if Hanna has a hood degree. The girl is a danger to herself. Hanna says Veronica is the danger to her.

Melissa stands on the edge of the roof. She says, I’m tired of you, bitch. I’m sick of you. Hanna screams, no! but Melissa does a swan dive off the roof. Everyone on the street is horrified, even Veronica.

Kathryn visits Wyatt. He says, it keeps getting worse. Kathryn says he has no idea. She came to look in on him. He says she’s seen him; leave. She wants to talk. Someone else might be blamed for the man he hurt. She asks if he remembers Hanna’s son, and he says, no, and he doesn’t care either. She says Benny Young, the man he ran over with the car. He walked into the bar after Wyatt left, and the police think he did it. Wyatt thinks that’s pretty good, but she says, it’s not good at all. He did it, and needs to pay the consequences. Wyatt laughs. He asks if this is because he told the DA that he’d testify, but she says it’s because he needs to accept responsibility for his actions. He calls her self-righteous. She says she’s done everything she could for him. This is it. He needs to pay for what he’s done. He says they took all his money, but she says money can’t pay for this. He tells her to have a seat and look at him. He hates her and Jim; absolutely hates them. There’s nothing he hates more in this world. They were always sending him and his sister to lessons, camps, and boarding schools. They did everything they could not to have them around. He wants them dead. She’s sorry he feels that way, because she loves him. She may have sucked as a parent, but she was the worst mother who held him in her arms when he came home from camp, after the priest… She stayed up every night, and took his phone calls from college, and rehab after rehab. The mother he ran home to after he hit Lizzie and Benny. The first person he called when a man was going to kill him for a bad drug deal. She does love him. Wyatt asks if she knows why she was the first person he ran to. She was a bigger devil than any devil he’s faced. He laughs. She says she might have made come bad decisions, but she knows one thing for sure. Whether he’s smiling, laughing, crying, high, strung out, or in coma, they both love him. He says they have the strangest way of showing it. He wouldn’t be there today if not for her. She says they always did what they thought best, and it’s why she has to do this. He asks, what? and she gets up. She opens the door, and a police officer walks in. He says Wyatt is under arrest for the attempted murder of Vinnie Malone.

Erica comes downstairs. David comes out, and she asks if everything okay. He loves when she says that. He asks if she’s taken the new car out for a drive, and she says she drove around the circular driveway. She wanted to wait for him. He says, let’s not waste time. Uh-oh, I think I know what’s going to happen. Erica gets in car. As David is walking around to the passenger side, she starts the car. It blows up.

HAHN will return on Tuesday, August 14th.

🚤 Because of a very long story about how eBay hates me, and I have to change every single one of my 346 listings, I’m postponing Below Deck Mediterranean until tomorrow. The good news is, we’re moving ever closer to the return of The Shahs of Sunset, which will be August 2nd, at 9 pm.

👋 Jusqu’à demain…

Until tomorrow, pick a vacation.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

As Ned says, if anyone can show cause that Nelle and Michael shouldn’t get married, speak now, Carly pops out of nowhere and says, hell no. Her son will not be getting married today. Sonny asks what she’s doing, and Carly says he knows what she’s doing. Jason tries to stop her, but she won’t have it. She refuses to let him marry Nelle. She says Nelle is not only dangerous, but deadly. Everyone is like, whaaat? Except for Ava, who gets on her phone.

Michael tells Carly that he loves her, but she can’t stop him; they’re adults and going to do what they want. She says it’s not going to end the way he thinks, and he says Nelle is the mother of his child. Nelle adds that they love each other. Carly says she wouldn’t survive if anything happened to him. Chase is on his phone. Sonny tells him not to involve the cops. He’ll call his lawyer and make it go away. He says the DA is gunning for him, and will make it into something it’s not. Carly isn’t a criminal; she’s a concerned mother. Chase says, too late. It’s on the record that she’s here after escaping from Ferncliff. Bobbie tells him that Carly is trying to save her son from making the worst mistake of his life. Carly says she’ll go, but wants Sonny to make sure it doesn’t happen. He says he’s coming with her, and Sam offers to take Mike home. As she’s being escorted out, Carly says Nelle didn’t do it alone. All the crap she pulled, she had help. She looks at Ava. So does Griff.

Bobbie says Ava wasted no time in calling the police. Ava asks if she should have waited for Carly to cart Nelle off to a stairwell. She was just looking out for a friend and her unborn baby. Bobbie says she was probably waiting with bated breath. She saw Ava at Nelle’s shower. When Avery called Carly mommy, Ava looked like she’d swallowed a cactus. Ava admits she resented how Carly kept her from her child, and Bobbie says this was probably the highlight of her year. Ava wonders if she’s the only person residing in reality, and Bobbie suggests she offer compassion. Ava says she’s fresh out. Bobbie says what Ava has done to Carly is going to come back to bite her, and she wants a front row seat.

Josslyn tells Oscar that she can’t believe what happened. Carly didn’t seem crazy. She kept it together, and was rational. She was different than she was at the baby shower. Oscar suggests maybe Ferncliff is helping her. Josslyn says she risked a lot to be there, and can get in a lot of trouble. It was obviously worth it to her to talk to Michael.

Ava asks what’s a wedding without drama, and if Nelle wants to take it from the top. Bobbie says they’re not seriously thinking of going through with it now. Nelle isn’t considering not doing it. She’s not letting Carly ruin the day. She suddenly gets a cramp, and Michael calls Lucas over. Nelle says she’s fine, and to go on with the ceremony, but she’s not fine. Michael leaves for the hospital with her. Her wedding bouquet lies on the floor.

At the PCPD, Sonny insists there’s no reason they should be there. Jordan says his wife escaped from Ferncliff, but he says she wanted to keep her son safe. Jason says, she didn’t do anything wrong, but Jordan says she overpowered the head nurse, and injected her with a sedative. It’s up to the judge to decide if she goes back to Ferncliff. Sonny says, or somewhere worse.

Sam tells Mike that she’ll take him home. He asks what happened to Michael, and Drew explains he had to take Nelle to the hospital. Mike guesses there isn’t going to be a wedding, and Drew says, not today. Drew decides to go with them.

Bobbie would say Nelle was faking, but she left before the I dos, so something must be wrong. Lulu hopes the baby is okay, and Brad says, not Nelle? Did it ever occur to them that she loves Michael and wants to start a family with him, and there’s no ulterior motive? Bobbie says it never occurred to her. Brad gets a call and steps away. Ava sees Griff, and says she’s been missing her handsome date. He says it seems like she’s been trying to avoid him.

At the hospital, Michael asks how Nelle is. Lucas says Kim is there; he can breathe. Nelle and the baby are fine, but they want to keep her overnight for observation as a precaution. She’s asking for Michael, and he goes into her room. He tells her that she gave him a very big scare. He’s glad nothing is wrong with the baby. Nelle adds, or her? and he says, of course. He thinks she should relax and get some rest, but she says they need to finish what they started. They need to get married tonight.

Michael says, not tonight, but Nelle says, if they don’t, Carly wins. He says it’s not about her, but Nelle wonders how he can say that. Francesca tells Michael that she can’t allow Nelle to be upset, but Nelle wants him to stay. Lucas asks how it’s going, and Michael tells him that Nelle wants to go through with the wedding. She says after everything they’ve been through, if they don’t do it now, she’s afraid it will never happen. Michael says, then let’s do it. Get married right here, right now.

Ava asks Griff why she’s be avoiding him, and he says, you tell me. She says she can’t, because she’s not. He says she’s distant, but she tells him that she’s worried about Nelle. Griff notes that in Carly’s parting shot, she looked at Ava. Ava says she’s used to being on the receiving end of Carly’s vitriol. It just proves she’s delusional, and clearly her paranoia has just been fueled. First, it was irrational hated toward Nelle, now she’s imagining a grand conspiracy. He can’t be buying into Carly’s ranting.

Michael calls Ned, and tells him they’d like to finish the wedding at the hospital. He say he’ll be there, and tells Olivia, apparently, they’re dead set on getting married tonight. They must want their child to have what Leo has; two parents, a house, and a loving relationship. Olivia says she’s not taking away from anyone, but maybe he should pump the brakes. Ned promised to come, and asks her to join him, but she says it would be too crowded in the hospital room.

Jason doesn’t understand why Carly did this. Jordan tells them about Michael taking Nelle to the hospital. Carly thinks she’s faking it; Nelle barely looked at her. Jason says they can’t prove it, so it doesn’t help her case. Michael calls Jason, and tells him they’re going ahead with the wedding. He needs his best man. Jason tells the others that apparently, Nelle is well enough to go through with wedding, and Carly says Sonny has to stop her. Sonny says, Michael has a plan, but Carly says, it’s not worth his life. Jordan tells Chase to try and have a chat with Nelle. Sonny says Carly’s goal was to get out of Ferncliff, but now she’s made it harder. She says her goal is to save her son.

Sam and Drew take Mike back to Sonny’s house. Drew says it’s been a long time since he was there; it feels like another life. Mike knows how he feels, but says, it is what it is. He asks if they’d like a drink. They would, and he asks how Drew and Sam met.

Brad sees Lucas at the hospital. Lucas says if he’s here for the wedding, it’s going down now. Nelle is determined to marry Michael tonight, come hell or high water. Brad says he’s there with news about the baby.

Josslyn and Ned show up at Nelle’s hospital room. Michael didn’t know if Josslyn would make it, thinking she must be upset at their mom’s surprise appearance. Josslyn tells him she said she’d be there, and she is. Nelle thanks her. Nelle says it must have been awful, hearing her mom spew horrible lies, but she must know Nelle’s heart belongs to Michael. She’d never hurt him. Jason arrives, and Ned says, it looks like the gang’s all here; let’s get this show on the road, sounding like someone out of an old Bob Hope movie. Chase lingers in the doorway.

Ned says no one would blame Nelle if she’d rather wait. They’d understand if she wants all the bells and whistles. Nelle says everything she’s ever wanted is here in this room. Chase disappears.

Sonny asks what Carly is thinking. She wants him to look Michael in the eye and make him understand. Sonny says it’s being handled, but Carly says, he’s not handling it, since he’s marrying a murderer.

Ned wants to cut to the chase. No, not that Chase. He asks Michael if he takes Nelle, blah-blah-blah, and he does. Ned says ditto to Nelle, and she does too.

Carly asks Sonny what the worst moment of his life was. He says she knows. She says they’ve been to hell and back, and lost people they didn’t want to, but she wants to hear him say it. He says when he pulled over and saw the wreckage of the car, and was told Morgan was gone. He didn’t believe it, and searched and searched. Everyone was watching and… He asks why she’s doing this, and tears up. Carly kisses his forehead.

Jason gives Ned the rings. Michael tells Nelle that he gives her this as a symbol of his love, blah-blah-blah, for as long as he lives. Nelle says the same, and they exchange rings.

Carly asks Sonny to remember the night he told her. She refused to believe it. She kept calling Morgan’s phone to make it not true, but when she realized she’ll never hold her baby again, it was the worst moment of her life, the worst pain ever, and she’s never going to feel it again. She refuses won’t lose Michael. Sonny says, so she drugged Mary Pat, and broke out of Ferncliff? She says she would do it again. She doesn’t care if people thinks she’s crazy. Sonny understands why, and isn’t sure he’d do it any differently, but now she has to go back.

Ned pronounces Nelle and Michael husband and wife. Michael kisses the bride.

Ava joins Griff at the bar. She knows Sonny is his friend. She doesn’t understand it, but accepts it. She knows he feels compassion for Carly, but he has to acknowledge that she’s completely irrational. He says there’s nothing medically wrong, and Ava says that proves it’s psychological. Griff says, probably, but not necessarily. Carly swore she got the message to go to the cemetery. Ava says, then poof! It was gone. Griff says Carly smelled his cologne too, and the both of them smelled it the other day. Ava says so Josslyn got Oscar the same cologne her brother wore. Griff wonders if it’s possible someone was wearing it when Carly smelled it. Ava says, at Morgan’s grave? He says, by accident or on purpose, but if it was real, how do they know the message wasn’t real? Ava asks how it could be there one minute, and gone the next, but he doesn’t know.

Josslyn congratulates Nelle, who’s grateful that she was there. Jason tells Michael that he’ll always have his back, and he knows it.

Sonny tells Carly that his influence is limited. Maybe he can get her out, but he doesn’t know how long it will take. He has to call in favors, but if he’s too obvious, the DA will shut him down. Carly says she’s scared, but can handle it and wait to get out, but she wants Sonny to get Michael out. Whatever it takes.

Francesca tells Nelle’s guests that she warned them; they have to keep it short. Ned says they still have to sign the marriage license. He asks if anyone has a pen, and Jason gives him one. I wonder if it’s invisible ink.

Jordan says Carly has been remanded back to Ferncliff pend judicial review. She’s sorry, and hopes it’s over soon. Carly tells Sonny to take care of Michael. He says, whatever it takes.

Ned presents Mr. and Mrs. Michael Corinthos. Josslyn takes a picture, telling them to say married. Nelle thanks them, and says it was nice to have a family member officiate. Ned says they’ll have a proper toast when the baby is born. He’s taking the license to be filed. Francesca says her patient needs some downtime, and they leave. Francesca congratulates the couple, and Michael guesses he should go too. Nelle doesn’t want him to leave on their wedding night, but he says they have the rest of their lives to make up for it. When he’s gone, she looks sadly at her ring.

Lucas asks Brad if it’s good, and Brad says, no; great news. Their baby passed the last checkup with flying colors. Their baby is perfectly healthy. It’s happening. They’re about to become parents.

Michael asks Josslyn if she wants a ride home. He says she seems distracted, and wonders if it’s because of Carly showing up. Josslyn says that, and a situation she doesn’t know how to handle. He asks if it’s about their mom. She says she’s worried about her, and Sonny, but they have Jason to make sure things are okay. It’s about Nelle and Chase.

Chase goes into Nelle’s room. He says he couldn’t leave without kissing the bride. Isn’t it supposed to be just the husband who does that?

Drew tells Mike that he and Sam used to be married. Mike is sorry to hear they’re divorced. Drew says maybe it’s not meant to be. Mike says he told himself that about Sonny’s mom. You have no way of knowing what’s will happen going in. You can only follow your heart. Sam thinks it’s time to get some sleep, and Mike says it’s time to mind his own business. He goes upstairs, and Drew and Sam clink glasses.

Jason asks Sonny where Carly, and Sonny tells him, Ferncliff. Jason say she did this for nothing. Now it’s going to get bad, with Mary Pat’s retaliation alone. Sonny says he should have known. She was calm and reasonable when she heard about the wedding. She did say she hated it, but didn’t act like she normally would. Jason says she knew the risk and the consequences, and no one on earth could have stopped her. Sonny has no control over Ferncliff, so Michael’s plan better kick into high gear, before Carly is in too deep.

Back at the Cliff, Rupert tells Carly that she had a sweet deal. Mary Pat doesn’t like her, but Doc was her guardian angel. Her husband even got special privileges for her. Carly says he’ll be grateful and generous if they continue. If they don’t, he’ll be disappointed, and nobody wants Sonny Corinthos disappointed. Rupert ask if she’s threatening him, but she says she’s stating a fact how is it going to go

Griff thinks they should call it a night, and Ava asks if he means together. She knows something is wrong, and he says he can’t stop thinking about Carly. She says, that’s just what every girlfriend wants to hear. Ava says she’s concerned about Nelle, and has Kiki’s trial to worry about. Weddings are supposed to inspire romance, and she’s feeling inspired. She kisses him, and they leave.

Sam says, Mike is right. All you can do is follow your heart. Drew asks, even if it leads to disaster? and she says, disasters happened every day, whether they’re brought on by ourselves or random. If you’re afraid to fall in love because you don’t want to get hurt, that would be a complete disaster. She thinks you would be cheating yourself. He asks if she had it to do over again, even knowing how it ended up, would she? She says when she signed the papers, she said she didn’t regret the time they spent together, and she never will. He kisses her shoulder.

Olivia asks Ned how the nuptials went, and he says short and sweet. Once it’s filed legally, they’re married. Lulu would have bet money that Carly could get through to Michael, and make him believe her. Olivia says, who said he doesn’t? It might be as bad as Carly says, but at the end of the day, Nelle is the mother of Michael’s baby. Like Carly demonstrated today, nothing changes your priorities like parenthood. They toast to the couple and their bundle of joy.

Sonny calls Diane to work on a strategy in light of recent events. Jason says they don’t have to prove Carly was set-up to make the DA look bad. Sonny says the DA wanted to get a Corinthos, and when she couldn’t get him, she got the next best thing. Imagine how embarrassing it would be. Jason thinks they might agree to vacate the sentences to make it go away. He calls Spinelli.

Carly tells Rupert that Sonny always pays his debts, whether he owes a favor or payback. I guess he’s also part Lannister. Rupert says he’s just an orderly, and does what he’s told. It’s Mary Pat she has to worry about never. She never lost control of a patient until her, and she didn’t like Carly to begin with. Any special arrangements will have to be made with her, but he doesn’t think she’s be very interested. He asks Carly why she did it, and Carly asks if he’s heard stories about mothers lifting cars off of their children. They’re true. When a child is in danger, a mother can do anything.

Nelle tells Chase that he almost had her convinced Michael didn’t love her, and was only obligated because of the baby. He had every opportunity to back out or postpone it, but he wanted to get married as much as she did. Chase asks, what now? A ring won’t stop Michael from taking her child; it’s just a piece of jewelry. If Michael really loves her, why leave her alone on her wedding night? He wouldn’t. He kisses her, and she moves to slap him, but he grabs her wrist. He tells her congratulations, and leaves. She gets out of bed.

Josslyn tells Michael, when she came back from getting ice, Chase was kissing Nelle. Nelle stopped it pretty quickly, but she got the feeling Nelle kissed back. Michael says he’s not worried about it. She says he’s not worried about his wife making out with another man? Michael tells her to trust him. He has everything under control. Nelle overhears from around the corner.

Tomorrow, Franco needs to tell Elizabeth something, the DA asks what Sonny and Jason’s involvement is, and Drew needs a new wife.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

They’re ba-a-a-ack! Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson are the newbies this season, replacing Peggy and Meghan.

Tamra and Eddie are moving. Eddie lived in the house with his ex, and Tamra wanted a place they could call theirs. Eddie wants a housewarming party but doesn’t want to invite Vicki. Tamra asks what if she apologizes, and he thinks that would be a start. In her interview, Tamra says it’s been baby steps with Vicki. She tells her mother about Eddie being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AFib), and needing heart surgery. They have to cauterize part of his heart. She says his body is letting him down at age 45. Her mom says she’ll have a hard time keeping him down. Tamra tells her that Eddie said he doesn’t want to die that way, and she starts to cry. Her mom hugs her.

Vicki asks Steve when he’s moving in, and he says he can’t be any more in. In her interview she says he’s been living with her for two months, but hasn’t done a change of address. She doesn’t understand why he can’t commit fully. She tells him how Shannon is hurt by David moving on. Brooks is getting married next weekend, but she pities the girl he’s marrying. In her interview, she hopes Steve proposes. She doesn’t like being alone, and wants a husband. She’s happy she and Tamra have been able to not harbor bad feelings and move on. She needed to make it right. She tells Steve that she’s keeping her opinion to herself from now on, and Steve says, some things are better left unsaid. She tells him the girls mean a lot to her.

Tamra directs the movers to where the furniture should go. They’re moving in while the house is still under construction, because they wanted to do it before Eddie’s surgery. Shannon calls Tamra, who says she has no sink, and it won’t be done for another twenty-eight days. She’s worried the others think the new house is something special, and it’s only 4000 square feet. Only. Shannon says it’s more special than where she and Kelly live right now.

In her interview, Shannon says it’s hard to be a single mom to teenage daughters. It’s disappointing that, after twenty years, her family is breaking up. She also went down to 4000 square feet. Boo-effing-hoo. She says each of her daughters is different with emotion but they all want their parents to be happy, and weren’t seeing it at home. She’s worried about she and David’s future at being co-parents. They’re only communication is through text and email, and it’s not pleasant. There’s a lot of bitterness on his part.

Kelly says dating post-divorce is like fishing with dynamite. She doesn’t like everybody, but it’s easy to find a date. She’s loving her new townhouse. In her interview, she says she and Michael had separated before for two years, but Jolie understands more now, and she’d rather they not be fighting. Jolie does her homework, and Kelly is no help. She says the only prime she knows is hers at 42.

Shannon meets Vicki. She’s trying not to obsess, and is down ten pounds. In her interview, Shannon says the last time she and Vicki interacted, she saw authenticity in Vicki’s remorse about she and David divorcing. We flash back to that at the reunion. Shannon says she has high hopes they’ll get to a better place. She tells Vicki that she and the girls are doing well, and they order breakfast. Vicki asks if Shannon’s heart is broken about David having a girlfriend. Shannon says it hurts to know how easily replaceable she is. The first couple of months made her sad. They talk about his posts on social media, and how Shannon found out that way. She says he’s doing what normal people would privately in a text. She thinks the girlfriend is young, and wants to be taken care of. Shannon says, after a lot of tears, she’s excited to see where this year will take her. Vicki says positive thoughts will being positivity to her life. I look to see if she’s reading a bad fortune cookie. In her interview, Vicki hopes Shannon knows she’s there for her. Shannon is glad they’re in a place where they can have a normal conversation.

It’s Eddie’s surgery day. He and Tamra leave for the hospital. She’s still trying to process it, but knows everything will get better. He says he’s a spartan, and she says, strong like bull, as my father used to say. She thinks she should be the one having issues. In her interview, Tamra says Eddie is tired of not being able to work out. His world is health and fitness, and when you take something away that someone loves, it changes them. She’s worried about the surgery.

Ryan and Tamra get coffee while Eddie is in hour six. She tells Ryan that she’s flustered. She gets the good news that Eddie is out. Ryan asks how it went, and she gets teary. She says they fixed the problem with AFib, but found out that his heart is beating irregularly, which makes him at greater risk for it coming back. Vicki calls, and Tamra says she’s holding up. She explains about Eddie’s heart still not working properly. Vicki offers to get Tamra a juice or something, but Tamra says she’s with Ryan. Ryan says, juice helps people in troubling times. Giving us our best quote of the week so far.

Kelly and Jolie go out for dinner. Vicki joins them. In her interview, Vicki says Kelly was unhappily married, and we flash back to that. Kelly says she’s doing well now. For the first time in her life, she’s doing things on her own. Vicki tells her David is dating a 34-year-old, and she hopes Michael finds a girlfriend. Kelly thinks Shannon should date, and Vicki says she has a friend of Steve’s for her. Kelly insists she’s not dating, but Jolie pipes up that she is, and Vicki says she knows way too much for sixth grade. Kelly thinks they should go on a ropes course to build trust. Vicki says she’s not good at athletic sh*t.

Tamra meets friend Emily in the park. Emily is a party planner by night, and a kickass attorney by day. They met three years ago, but something happened that pissed Tamra off, and they haven’t seen each other for two years. Emily says she’d invited Ricky to her 40th birthday party, but didn’t know the circumstances between him and Tamra. We flash back to Ricky making comments about Eddie being gay. Emily thinks she’s seen Gretchen once since then. In her interview, Tamra explains that Emily was hanging out with people that she needed to distance herself from. Tamra tells Emily that she never had anything against her, but saw pictures of them on social media and couldn’t be part of it. Emily understands, but at the time felt like she was in the middle and was like, screw you. She missed her though. In her interview, Emily says she decided to reach out after she was in therapy to resolve issues with toxic relationships. She thinks when the trust comes back, they’ll be great friends. They talk about Eddie’s surgery. He’s now at home, going crazy.

We watch Emily chase after her kids. She calls daughter Annabelle, her feral child, since it’s like they picked her up in the woods. She also has Luke and Kenner, three-year-old twin boys. She tells us she’s from Ohio and grew up poor. She was the kid in the free lunch program. Hey, I washed dishes in exchange for lunch. It pissed me off when, not too long ago, it was made to seem like a crime to offer a kid this option. It saved money and taught me the value of a dollar. Mini rant over. Emily feels appreciative of where she came from, since it made her who she is. She wanted an education and a better life. She tried to make good choices, and it worked out. Husband Shane comes home. She says they’d worked together, but never really dated. They became friends, and one day he asked her, hey, want to get married? on Google Chat, and she had nothing better to do. They got married a few weeks later. It’s their anniversary soon, and Shane says he got her a card. They lose Keller in their massive house, but he’s found on the couch.

In her yard, Shannon comes across the great leveler – dog poop – and picks up after Archie, who is adorable. Tamra visits, and asks if Shannon is staying there a while. Shannon says, no; she’s just renting. Tamra wonders if, when the divorce is over, she’ll get some money. Tamra feels badly for her, but says David has moved on, and it’s time for her to sign the divorce papers and figure out next part of her life. Shannon says she’s frustrated that in less than three months after her marriage of seventeen years ended, he’s found a girlfriend. In her interview, Tamra says she was the first to find out, and stalked them. She found out the relationship went back as far as when David and Shannon were still married. Tamra was worried about telling Shannon, but Shannon says it’s over; it doesn’t matter. Tamra says it’s time to take her ring off. Shannon says it doesn’t represent David, but that she’s a wife and mother. In her interview, Shannon says not be wearing a wedding ring means she doesn’t have her whole family together anymore. Tamra says it’s like the final step.

Shannon says she’s never taken it off except when she was pregnant. It will seem like she’s naked. She knows the marriage is over, and she never wants to go back. It’s tight, but she suddenly decides she wants it off. Tamra helps using some soap. Shannon tells Tamra to rip her knuckle off. It finally comes off, and Shannon says she feels naked and like her hands look old.

The girls drive to the ropes course together. Kelly wants to talk about her date. Shannon says she claimed she wasn’t dating, and Vicki begs to differ. The course looks high up and scary. Shannon says the activity is really about making a commitment and trust. Everyone has trust issues, and Vicki says they’re rebuilding what’s broken. They put on helmets and harnesses. Vicki falls over before they even get on the course, and we flash back to her doing a lot of that over the seasons.

The guide explains the course, and the girls start to climb up. Tamra and Shannon go first. Kelly asks if it’s scary. Shannon is afraid of heights, and says, eff you. Tamra encourages her to walk on these floating logs, but she says she’s not strong enough and starts to panic. From down below, Kelly says it’s nothing compared to what she’s been through, and it’s good for her daughter to see. Shannon says she’s kind of right. Vicki and Kelly start to go up.

Tamra tells them not to look down; one step at a time. Shannon explains how to get across to Vicki. The guide says they’re a group. Shannon gets stuck, but it’s also made the ropes trap Vicki’s hand, and Vicki starts squealing. Shannon starts crying, and somehow, Tamra helps extract Vicki. Kelly is the first to zipline back down. In her interview, she says it’s the most terrifying thing she’s ever been through. Shannon gets scared, and tells Tamra, if she dies, let the kids know she loves them, and tell David to eff off. IMO, the ziplining looks like the easiest, and least scary part, so I’m confused. Not that I’ll ever be doing one of these.

Shannon says she feels strong, and can do whatever she sets her mind to. She knows they have her back. They’ve all been though what she has, and are there to support and lead her through it. Tamra says it was a good thing for them to do. Trust is gigantic, and as friends, they have to help each other. There’s a picnic waiting, and they toast to a new beginning. In her interview, the OG of the OC, Vicki, says she’s learned her lesson. She’s moving on and having fun. They all cheer to Team OC.

Next time, Gina is introduced, Vicki has one more hurdle – Eddie, and Vicki tells Kelly not to care about Michael moving on.

🍹 Southern Charm Savannah started its new season tonight, but I only watched it peripherally. I’d been on the fence about it, but was starting to like the couple with the little dogs. Then they broke up. Now I’m on the fence again.

😔 Very Sad News…

Annabelle Neilson from Ladies of London has passed away. She was only 49, and so far, no details about how she died. I loved that show, and was praying for its return. She was one of my favorites too. She was quite the equestrian, and had gotten severely injured during (I think) the first season. She was a trooper though, and things seemed to be looking up. I wonder if there were eventual complications from the accident. Unfortunately, it also sounded like she was depressed.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nelle and Michael stand at the altar. When Ned says Michael may kiss the bride, Nelle stabs Michael in the stomach, and says that’s what she calls the kiss of death. Carly wakes up, and says, not my son.

Olivia helps Michael with his cufflinks. She tells him it’s okay to be nervous; it’s normal. He says there’s nothing normal about this wedding.

Mike says, will wonders never cease. Jason is wearing a suit and tie. He asks what’s happening, and Sonny says they’re going to a wedding. Mike thinks it’s Jason getting married, but Sonny says it’s not him; it’s Michael. Mike says Michael is finally settling down. It’s a cause for celebration, isn’t it?

Nelle tells the baby, we did it, baby; we’re in. She looks at the prenup, and remembers saying, as long as she and Michael are together, the papers are meaningless. Ava comes in, and takes the papers out of her hand, saying the door was open. Nelle says she was thinking about something. Ava says, like the prenup? She sees Nelle has signed it, and says it’s strategic, but that’s her thing, isn’t it? Nelle says, prenups can be dissolved, but Ava says, a Quartermaine and his money aren’t soon parted. Ask Tracy, whose father took his money to his grave. But of course this is a true love match; she and Michael together forever. Nelle says, till death do us part.

Sam sees Drew at the MetroCourt. He says they must be the first ones there.

Mike wonders why they’re not happy for Michael. Sonny says Michael has had share of bad luck with women and relationships. Mike asks if he knows what he’s doing with the woman he’s marrying. Sonny tells him, he says he does, and they have to take him at his word. Jason says, he’s a grown man, and it’s his decision.

At the hospital, Brad tells Lucas that they have to get going, but Lucas wants to take a detour to the beach. They haven’t been there in a year, and the sand and warm water would be perfect. Brad says they have to be there in less than an hour. Lucas says Michael won’t miss them, but Brad says, Nelle will. She’s his friend. He thinks Lucas’s mom got to him. Lucas says he’s not the only one who realized Carly’s life tanked when Nelle came along. He tells Brad that he’ll go, but don’t expect him to throw rice.

Carly flashes back to Nelle’s visit, and Nelle asking if she can call Carly mom.

Josslyn is getting ice for Nelle, but sees Oscar, who tells her that she looks beautiful. He says Julian was trying to give him fashion advice, and she says he doesn’t need any help; he looks great and smells great. She asks if he likes the cologne, and he says he loves it, but mostly because she gave it to him. Josslyn needs to get back.

Ava asks if anyone is helping Nelle, and Nelle says Josslyn is her maid of honor. Ava starts to leave, and says, with all sincerity, she wishes Nelle the best. Nelle hopes she means that. A lot of people in her life are fake. Ava says it’s no secret that his family loathes her, but Nelle says they’ll come around when the baby is born – if they want a relationship with her child. Ava tells her not to overestimate the power of marriage, and don’t let her guard down. Sonny and Jason won’t rest until Carly is free, and when she is, she’ll try to break them up for good. Nelle says she got rid of everything that would point to her, and Ava says, not quite. Nelle asks if that’s a threat on her wedding day, but Ava says it’s just a reminder. Nelle says, better a reminder than a revelation. Imagine if Griff found out about the test results Ava kept on her phone. She adds there’s no point in them threatening each other. You do you, and I’ll do me.

Olivia hopes Michael doesn’t mind her filling in for his mom. She would be there to help if she could; she loves him. Michael knows that, but says she wouldn’t help with this wedding if someone was holding her at gunpoint. Ned comes in and says he sees Michael is ready. He has his notes, and asks how Michael is feeling. Michael says he’s been thinking about this day for a long time. Ned asks if he’s ready, and Michael says, that’s one way to put it. He says he’ll see them at the hotel. Ned and Olivia leave, and Michael’s phone rings. The number says unavailable, but he answers. It’s Carly. She’s glad she caught him.

Sonny says there’s no point in putting it off, and Mike hopes it works out. Jason is worried how Carly is going to take it. Michael thinks it’s his responsibility because he let Nelle in, and now thinks the problem is solved. Sonny says he told Carly that it’s Michael’s game. Even if she wanted to fight, she can’t do anything.

Michael says he didn’t think they let patients make calls, and Carly says they don’t. He asks how she’s calling then, but she says it doesn’t matter. He can’t marry Nelle. She knows he has a plan to neutralize her, but it’s dangerous for him and the baby. He says it will get better, and she says it will when he and the baby are safe. He says keeping the baby safe is all that matters. Carly says she doesn’t have much time. She didn’t push Nelle. Nelle is lying, like she did about everything else. She tells him that he can’t marry her; it’s not worth risk. He says everything will be okay; he promises. She tells him that she loves him, and ends the call. He says he loves her too, to an empty line. Carly sees the phone battery is low.

Drew tells Sam there seems to be a lack of empathy for the sacred union. She says Michael is marrying Nelle because of the baby; she’s not feeling the love. Oscar comes in, and takes a picture of them. Sam asks how his summer is going, and he says he’s interning at Aurora. She likes it. Drew says he could be working on his tan, but he’s in boring strategy sessions. Oscar says they’re planning a world take over,

Ava doesn’t want every encounter with Nelle to be so contentious; she just wants to know where they stand. Nelle says, shoulder to shoulder against Carly. They’re in it together. Josslyn returns, and asks why Ava is there. She says she was just leaving, and Josslyn tells her that she’s sorry Morgan couldn’t be there. Ava leaves, and Josslyn says she knows Ava is Nelle’s friend, but when she sees her, she wants to punch her. She asks what she can do to help, and Nelle asks about the ice. Josslyn says she forgot. Geez, she had one job. Josslyn gives Nelle a gift box. Inside, is a hair ornament that was her grandmother’s. Her mom gave it to her, and she’s loaning it to Nelle, so Nelle can have something old, borrowed, and blue. She thought they could have something to tie the families together. Nelle says, other than Michael and the baby. Nelle takes a photo of herself and Josslyn, saying she can send it to Josslyn’s mom. So she can have a tie to the wedding, even if she can’t be there.

Oscar take photos. Lulu says Dante is away, but he probably wouldn’t be thrilled. Olivia tells her, the fewer harsh words we say, the fewer we have to take back. Lulu says most of the guests are here under duress, and Ned says he has too much in his own past to pass judgments. It’s Michael’s life, and it’s what he wants. Lulu says, this can’t be it. Who gets married on Friday the 13th? Olivia says, when in doubt, smile, and Lulu says, no comment. Oscar takes the picture, and Lulu’s face is priceless.

Brad tells Lucas that he turned his life around; maybe Nelle did too. Lucas says the only thing Nelle did was get pregnant. Brad thinks she should be given half a chance, and if he’s wrong, he’ll eat his words. Lucas can hold it over him for the rest of his life. Lucas supposes that’s a no on the beach. Once they have the baby, there will be zero time for spontaneity. Brad says if Lucas plays his cards right, there might be spontaneity tomorrow tonight. Right now, they’re going to welcome Nelle into the family. Bobbie joins them, and says, let’s do this. We don’t see her, but Lucas and Brad look surprised.

Mike asks where Carly is, and Sonny says she’s not going to be there. Mike says, no Dante, no Morgan, and where are the grandmothers? Ned tells him Monica has the flu, but Bobbie will be there. She walks in with Brad and Lucas. She’s dressed entirely in black. Olivia says, that’s how to make a statement.

Carly throws a chair at the door, and yells she wants out of there. She’s sick of this place. She pounds on the window. Mary Pat is outside the door showing Doc a video of Carly with her phone. She says she’s never seen anything like this in her life. Really? In a hospital for the criminally insane? She tells Doc that Carly needs restraints and heavy sedation. Leaving the wedding, Doc tells her not to do that. Mary Pat says Carly is liable to hurt herself. He says he’ll make that assessment when he gets there. Mary Pat tells him that she’ll take any action that Carly’s behavior warrants. She tells Carly to behave, and tells Doc to hurry, before her patience wears thin.

Brad asks for minute with the bride, and Josslyn promises to get ice for real. Brad gives Nelle a present, saying, it’s a little something for luck. It’s a beautiful pendant necklace. Brad puts it on her. It’s funny how when bride’s get surprise jewelry in movies and TV shows, they’re never wearing any already. Nelle says in a few minutes, she’ll be walking down the aisle with a man no one thinks she deserves. What luck does she need? Brad tells her to let it be a reminder she has a friend in her corner. She hugs him, and says she’ll treasure it forever.

Jason sees Michael at the Quartermaine’s, and says he could put an end to it. Stay there, and he’ll make the apologies. He says, do not marry Nelle.

There’s a knock on Nelle’s door. Its Chase.

Griff introduces Oscar to Ava, who says Julian mentioned he was an impressive young man. She notices his cologne, and he says Josslyn gave it to him. Ava tells Griff the cologne Josslyn gave Oscar is the same one Morgan wore. Griff says Carly imagined the cologne at Morgan’s grave; it was brought up in the trial. He says personally, he wouldn’t know one from another.

Carly screams to let her out. Mary Pat says she needs a strong sedative; a good twelve hours. Doc arrives and wants to see her alone. Carly tells Doc that Nelle is going to hurt Michael, or worse, she’s going to kill him, like she killed Zack. She has to stop the wedding. Doc asks how she expects to do that, and she says Michael’s life is at stake. She can’t lose another son.

Michael tells Jason that he’s sticking to the plan. He gets that he’s taking a risk. Jason says he has a lot on the line. He has people who care about him, and Nelle is dangerous. Michael thinks it’s worth the risk, but Jason asks if he’s sure he’s not punishing himself, making it his fault. Michael says he ignored what was in front of him. He thought he could fix Nelle, and brought her into their lives. Now she’s bringing an innocent life into the world that she can use as leverage. It’s his responsibility as a father.

Chase tells Nelle to get her stuff and come with him. She says, why, and Chase says she doesn’t love Michael. Michael loves his child. He’s a stand-up guy, but thinks it’s his obligation; there’s no real connection or basic understanding. He says she deserves real love, not the imitation she’s settling for. Nelle says when she marries Michael, she’ll never have to settle again. He says money can’t make her happy; he can. She says she never saw the charm in being poor and in love. He asks if she’s admitting she loves him, but she says she didn’t admit to anything. He tells her to look him in the eye and say she doesn’t think about him. She says, what she thinks about, is getting everything she’s ever wanted with Michael. Chase says she deserves a guy who loves her for being herself. She’s empty inside, and thinks wealth and a big house will fill the void. If anything, she’ll feel more lonely than before. Michael will come to resent the marriage of convenience, and the glow will fizzle out. He’ll cut her loose, and claim his child. She’ll be alone again. Then what? He cares about her. He always has and always will. When it falls apart, and it will, what is she going to do. She starts to say, it depends on… but he grabs her and kisses her. Josslyn walks in, and gives the second-best face of the day.

Josslyn gasps, and Nelle says, get off me. Josslyn tells Chase to get away from her. He apologizes, and Nelle says she’s getting married. She loves Michael; leave her alone. Josslyn pushes him out. He says he was wrong, and hopes Nelle gets everything she deserves. Josslyn asks why he was there. Nelle says he pushed his way in, and tried to convince her to run away with him. Josslyn thinks she should tell Michael, and Nelle says she can later. Right now, she just wants to get married and be with Michael. They’ve been through enough. Josslyn says, whatever she wants, and Nelle thanks her. She says Josslyn is the best sister-in-law in the world. She’s lucky to have her.

Carly tells Doc that she used to complain she didn’t know where Morgan was going, and didn’t know what he did. When he left, she’d wonder if she said goodbye or I love you. Doc says Morgan knew how much she loved him. She says she found pieces of her beautiful baby boy. The night he died, he was confused and in pain, and she wasn’t there. She couldn’t protect Morgan. Michael is in danger, and she can’t protect him. He’s going to die. Doc says she’s just overwhelmed. He promises it will be okay. She says she has to help him, but doesn’t know what to do. Doc says he can give her something to help her anxiety, and tells her to breathe.

Doc comes out of Carly’s room, and tells Mary Pat that she’s suffering an acute panic attack, probably triggered by the wedding. Mary Pat thought as much, and Doc agrees a stronger dosage might be applicable.

Sam asks Brad what he thinks of Bobbie’s dress. Brad gives credit for well-thrown shade, but wonders if it’s dawned on anyone that Michael might want support. Jason asks to talk to Drew. Lucas wonders what that’s all about, and Brad says if there’s a fight, he bets Drew throws the first punch. Sam says there’s not going to be a fight. She hopes.

Jason tells Drew about Nelle’s last fiancé dying under questionable circumstances. He doesn’t want Michael to be next. Drew says they’re all living under the same roof. Jason says Nelle is good at staging accidents, and Drew promises to keep eye on things. He knows Jason cares about Michael, but he does too.

Mike wonders if Bobbie thinks it’s a wedding or funeral. He hopes Michael knows what he’s doing. Mike asks Sonny why Bobbie is mad, and Sonny says she doesn’t approve, but don’t worry about it. Michael asks for a moment with Sonny to get some marriage advice. Sonny tells him, don’t go through with the marriage, but he ants to talk about his mom. She called him. Sonny says Jason gave her a burner phone, and she took a chance. Michael says she begged him not marry Nelle, but he has to do this. Sonny explains that parents don’t always see their kids; they listen with their heart. His mom is afraid for him, and so is Sonny. Michael asks Sonny to visit Carly tomorrow, and reassure her that he knows what he’s doing, because he does.

Mary Pat says what a pity Carly is making a spectacle of herself on her son’s wedding day. She couldn’t hold it together and be happy. Instead, she had to make it about her. Self-absorption shows no evidence of recovery. She told Doc that his optimism was premature, but what does she know? She gets a syringe ready, and says Carly won’t be getting out anytime soon, but Carly grabs her arm and says, guess again.

Everyone takes their seats. Josslyn comes down the aisle, followed by Nelle. Nelle is wearing a sweet empire waist number, with bling at the waistline, a bow in back, and the cutest little lace cap sleeves.

Doc looks in on Carly, and sees someone sleeping under the blanket. What he doesn’t see, is the syringe on the floor.

Ned starts the ceremony. Chase scowls. Ned says if anyone can show just cause that they shouldn’t be joined together, speak now. Carly appears, and says, hell no. Her son is not getting married today. Bobbie smiles.

On Monday. Brad has news for Lucas about the baby. Griff thinks Ava is avoiding him, and Carly says Nelle is dangerous and deadly, and Michael can’t marry her.

😂 Bravo has been running mini marathons of Whose Line Is It Anyway? If you’ve never seen this show, you’re in for a treat. Featuring Aisha Tyler and Wayne Brady (one of my favorites), among others, it’s all improv, and one of the funniest shows ever. Not being talented in that area, it amazes me how clever this group can be off the tops of their heads. Using props, suggestions from the audience, and music, it will have you rofling in no time.

💥 I saw a hoarder on Dr. Phil this week. Two of my favorite things – I thought my head might explode. She also gave me a quote for my Hall of Fame: You just never know when you might need a wheel.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Valentin tells Nina the stable master had a family emergency, so he has to take care of the horses himself. He’ll say hello to Lumiere for her. When he’s gone, Nina calls Obrecht, but it goes to voicemail. Nina says, put down whatever torture device you’re using and answer the phone.

Peter talks about what’s important in life as he dictates the book, ending with, the first time a mother reached out to hold her baby. Why, Octavian thought, do we never understand life’s value and true meaning until we’re about to lose it all? Obrecht calls it drivel. She says it’s supposed to be a brilliant sequel. His fate depends on it. Peter says they both know how it ends. When he finishes the story, she finishes him. She says, back to work. He has a deadline; no more stalling. No one is coming to his rescue.

Curtis meets Sam and Jordan at the MetroCourt. Curtis says they have footage that might prove how Peter vanished. Sam says, it’s more like he didn’t have a choice.

Stella sees mike Sonny and Mike at the hospital. Sonny says they’re waiting for a prescription. Mike says Griff suggested he take tango lessons, but he needs a dance partner. Sonny says Mike is an incurable flirt, and Stella hopes they never find a cure. She loves to tango, and Mike says he has himself a dance partner. Stella leaves to put a rush on the prescription. Sonny asks if Mike is okay, and he says he was just kidding around with Stella. It would be nice to have one last tango with someone that lovely. Maybe tonight at the wedding. He tells Sonny that he’s not losing a son, but gaining a daughter.

Alexis arrives at the Quartermaine’s. Michael thanks her for coming on short notice. She’s surprised he didn’t call Diane, but he says she’s his father’s lawyer. He’s his own man, and thought he’d get his own lawyer. She says, as opposed to the ELQ army he has. He says, that’s business, this is personal. He wants her to draw up a will. It wasn’t what she was expecting to hear from a groom on his wedding day. He says he wants to get it out of the way – the sooner the better. With the baby almost here, he can’t put it off. After today, everything changes. He wants to put the happiness and welfare of his family first. He wants to make sure the person who means the most is taken care of after he’s gone. Nelle listens from around the corner.

Mike talks about dancing with Sonny’s mother at their wedding. The family didn’t approve of him, so they eloped. He remembers someone saying, you may kiss the bride, and he did. Sonny’s mom said he was a terrific kisser. They had first dance. Adela loved to dance, and when he held her… He’s never forgotten how much he loved her. He says, when you find that one person… Sonny knows what he means.

Jordan tells Curtis and Sam there’s no way to tell if it’s Peter under the laundry, or who’s pushing the cart. Sam tells her to check out the shoes. They seem to be sensible work shoes, but look closer – a heel. Jordan assumes they’ve traced the brand. Sam says there’s only one website that sells them. Jordan says now they need a face to do with the shoes.

Peter asks Obrecht if Nina is coming back. He’s hungry, tired, and in pain; it’s not conducive to creativity. Obrecht thinks she has half a caramel stashed in her bag, but he says he doesn’t need a piece of candy; he needs Nina. Obrecht asks if she’s his muse, and he says she’s less likely to do him bodily harm. Obrecht shows him a riding crop, and says, instead of thinking of it as an instrument of pain, think of it as inspiration. He asks, what if Nina was arrested, and the police are on their way? She says it would be lucky for him. Her phone buzzes. She says it’s probably someone trying to sell healthcare, but checks it.

Nina finds Valentin at the docks, and tells him that he can’t go home. She got a call from environmental department, and they’re checking for West Nile virus on Spoon Island. He says it sounds a panicked bureaucrat afraid of losing their job, but she says it’s serious. She doesn’t think he should go there, and says it’s a good thing Charlotte is staying at Lulu’s. She tells him to stay at the MetroCourt; she’ll drive him. He says for someone whose divorcing him, she’s very concerned about his welfare, and asks if there’s another reason. An officer comes out. He says he’s been trying to get ahold of Valentin, and puts up a sign saying the launch is closed, and tells Valentin that Spoon Island is quarantined until further notice.

Sam tells Curtis they can cross Maxie off the list. She was in the hospital when Peter disappeared. He ask if she knows someone who would do it as a favor. She says, only Jason, but he’d tell her. He says Nina has the funds to hire someone to do her dirty work. Sam reminds him that she hired them to prove Valentin was an accessory. He says that leaves one woman who has the means, opportunity, and motive. Obrecht.

Peter says he warned Obrecht that the story might not end the way she wans it to. She says no one knows they’re at the stables. He says unless Nina let it slip. She only wanted justice. Obrecht says that’s what she wants, but Peter says, she wants revenge. Nina knows it’s wrong. Maybe in a moment of clarity, decency, and sanity, she confessed. Obrecht’s phone dings. The text says, West Nile detected. Obrecht says Nina managed to divert all curious parties away. She suggests they pick up where they left off.

Jordan sees Stella at the hospital. She’s looking for TJ, and Stella says he’s spending his spare time in medical library. Jordan tells Stella that she and Curtis would like her help in planning the wedding.

Mike asks Sonny what’s wrong. Sonny says, nothing, but Mike doesn’t buy it. He has that concerned look, like when he’s worried. He asks if something is wrong with the wedding, and Sonny says he might say that. Mike asks if the groom is getting cold feet.

Alexis tells Michael she’ll make a boilerplate, and when he gets back, they’ll fill in the blanks. She asks what’s the rush, and he says he wants to make sure the person he loves most will be completely taken care of. Alexis says she’ll make that happen. Go forth and get hitched. When he gets back. She’ll make sure his wishes are crystal clear. He says it’s pretty simple. He’s going to leave everything to his child. The sooner, the better. Alexis says, understood, and he thanks her for making it a priority

Stella tells Jordan that it’s early to be planning, especially without a date. Why not enjoy an old-fashioned courtship? Don’t spoil it. Jordan gets that they’ll never be best friends, but she and Curtis love each other, and they’re going to be married. It would mean a lot if she’d sit down to supper and plan the wedding with them. Stella agrees, but when Jordan is gone, she calls Shondra. She leaves a message, saying that she was thinking Shondra should visit. Curtis would love to see her. The sooner, the better (phrase of the day).

Curtis says it wouldn’t be the first time Obrecht crossed the line. Sam says she’s a doctor, and has access to sedatives. Sam says she was just with her at Maxie’s baby shower, and has a hard time believing yjr same woman celebrating her grandson’s birth is the one in the video. Curtis says maybe she’s upset that her grandson is without a father. She has a big ass motive that just got bigger. He thinks Nina knows or saw something. Either way, they’re talking to her.

Nina tells Valentin that he’s a refugee in a five-star hotel; boohoo. He says she cares about him, but she says Charlotte would be upset if he keeled over from West Nile. She has to deal with the magazine. He might have bought hem some time, but she has to provide real ads from real businesses with real products. Unless he wants her to be the laughing stock of the publishing industry and the entire world. He says she could have let him find out on his own, but instead, she raced to the docks. It could only mean one thing.

Nelle joins Michael, who wasn’t expecting to see her until the main event. He asks if she shouldn’t be getting dressed, and she asks if he loves her.

Nina tells Valentin, despite her non-positive feelings, she doesn’t want him walking into a mosquito hot zone. Human decency is the only reason. He says if he’s taking a suite there, they might find themselves next to each other. Curtis comes to the office, and Nina tells Valentin to go. Curtis tells Nina that he and Sam have a new theory. What can she tell him about Obrecht?

Peter dictates. A small glimmer of light, a symbol of hope. He drove into the night. The road long and dark stretching on forever. He stops and tells Obrecht she looks like needs rest. She says, when he’s dead. He says he was watching her, and she looks like she could almost be a mother, a mother in pain. She says that’s who she is, and don’t forget who caused it. He tells her, Cesar Faison. It was inflicted on him his whole life. She doesn’t seem like bad person. She asks if he’s developed Stockholm Syndrome. He says they’re going about the sequel wrong. It shouldn’t be about him. She says the first book was about him and his father. Why wouldn’t it be about him after his father’s demise? He says he left out a compelling character – her.

Jordan finds TJ, and tells him there’s been a stumbling block in planning the wedding. He assumes it’s Stella, but Jordan says she stepped up to the plate. The other hurdle is the bride needs someone to give her away. Speaking for the bride, she can’t think of anyone better than her son.

Stella tells Sonny the pharmacy is backed up, but their working on Mike’s prescription. Mike asks Sonny to go to the pharmacy and wait. Stella says he needs to get to a wedding, and she’s trying to avoid one. He asks if she means her nephew and the commissioner. He ask if she’s ever missed a funeral, and she says it’s her Christian duty to attend. He asks, then why deny seeing two people’s happiness?

Alexis sees Sonny, and tells him that she’ll accommodate Michael’s wishes. It’s a first to draft a will hours before a groom takes his vows.

Michael says of course he loves Nelle. Why is she doubting it? She says she put him through so much, and then the baby. He says it’s the best thing that ever happened to them. She loves him more than anything, but can’t live with the fact that he might think she’s using the baby to trap him. He says, he’s the one who proposed, and wanted to be married today. If anyone is trapping, it’s him. He says after they’re married, they’ll be so happy. He hugs her, and practically rolls his eyes.

Valentin reserves a suite on the executive level, and asks if they’re sure things will work out. Sam says she couldn’t help overhearing; it’s an occupational hazard. Valentin tells her about Spoon Island being quarantined tells her. Sam says, don’t worry. They don’t want anything to do with it anymore.

Nina asks Curtis if Obrecht is a person of interest. He says she has one hell of a motive. Other than Maxie, who has more reason to hate Peter than Nathan’s grieving mother? He asks if Nina has noticed any odd behavior. She says Obrecht is brilliant, but also a lunatic. She’d be suspicious if Obrecht acted normal. She needs to get back to work. Curtis says if she runs into Obrecht, they never had this conversation. She says, what conversation?

Jordan doesn’t want to put TJ on the spot if he’s uncomfortable. TJ says it’s not that. His dad’s been gone a long time. Like he told Stella, he thinks his dad would want them to be happy. She asks if that’s a yes.

Stella says Mike would understand if he knew the circumstances. There are many reasons why they’re all wrong for each other. He asks if they know reasons, and she says, they do, but want to go ahead anyway. Against reason, decency, and common sense. He says she’s been a good friend, so he’s giving it to her straight. He takes her hand, and says, life goes by in the blink of an eye. If two people are lucky enough to find love, they should grab it. Anyone who tries to take it away, is not doing their Christian duty. They’re robbing themselves of the most precious thing; time to love. He tells her not to make that mistake.

Sonny tells Alexis that Nelle’s last fiancé died before they got married. She thinks Michael’s too smart to take a chance. After they’re married, she’ll revisit the will and work out the details. She leaves, and Sonny says, that may be too late.

Nelle says she’ll see Michael at the chapel. He says he can’t wait. When he’s gone, Nelle calls the lawyer again. She has a quick question for a friend. she became sick with no will, and is terrified her husband and daughter won’t get anything. She asks what happens if someone dies with no will, Michael listens in.

Sam meets Curtis. He says Nina didn’t kidnap Peter, but she knows more than she’s telling. She couldn’t jump through enough hoops to avoid answering questions about Obrecht. Sam asks about the West Nile virus, and Curtis says it’s not there. She asks how much thinks Nina knows.

Nina thanks the officer, and gives him something for his time and expenses. He gives her a flyer from the theater troupe he’s in. They’re doing Bye, Bye Birdie in the park, and he’s playing Conrad. She asks him to leave he sign, and tells him to break a leg.

Valentin makes and appointment with Finn. He needs an infectious disease specialist as soon as possible.

Obrecht rejects Peter’s attempt at flattery. He says the entire story was only about the father and son; they need a mother. It’s time for a story not with a secondhand viewpoint, but her own words. She says no one ever asked about her. It was always Cesar, Cesar and Anna, Cesar and Robin. No one considered she might have story to tell. He says, now’s her chance. She says she’s not a writer, but he says neither was J.K. Rowling before she gave the world Harry Potter. He says pretend he’s the reader, and begin anywhere. Repeat after him, once upon a time… She says, there was a little girl that absolutely no one understood.

TJ tells Jordan, it’s a definite yes. He hopes the wedding is everything she and Curtis would want. She hugs him.

Sonny comes back. Stella says she stopped by to help his father, and he turned the tables and helped her instead. Mike says he still has a few surprises. She says, he certainly does, and tells him not to miss wedding. He says, her too. Outside, Stella calls Shondra again. She says, on second thought, it’s not a good time. She forgot to mention Curtis is getting married.

We see an empty desk chair. On the desk, the phone says a missed call from Stella.

Mike tells Sonny that he loves weddings. Who’s getting married?

Nelle says, so in New York state, if intestate, the spouse inherits everything? Her friend will be glad to hear that. Michael eavesdrops.

Tomorrow, Lulu asks Ned who gets married on Friday the 13th, Carly wants out, and Nelle stabs Michael.

Southern Charm

The Winter Wonderland Ball is being set up and Patricia approves. Kathryn flips through Patricia’s book, The Art of Southern Charm.

Cameran visits Craig at his new house. She asks if he’s swept the floors since he moved in. He says yes, but she’s skeptical. She suggests he hire a cleaning service. He offers her something to drink, and she says she’ll take some wine if it’s not old. From the look on her face after taking a sip, I think it might be. He asks if the baby is awesome, and she shows him a picture. He thinks she’ll make a kickass mom. He’s waiting on a character fitness profile from the bar, which verifies they’re comfortable letting him represent people. At present, it’s pending. Craig tells Cameran about his pillow-making operation. She asks if pillow-making is a passion, and if the end goal is to make a business. He says there’s no reason for it not to, and shows her his pillow covers. She tells him it’s not rocket science to stuff them. She says it’s nice, but in her interview says, wtf?  Cameran says, God bless him, truly, but she thinks it’s nothing more than an excuse not to do what he really wants to be doing. Craig says he needs to focus on one thing; it’s been a pattern in his life. He needs some soul searching to find out why he can’t stick with one thing and follow through. Cameran asks what his life coach said, and he tells her that he stopped calling back. In his interview, he thinks it’s because of shame. We flash back to her asking why he’s a liar, and how they have to work on his vulnerability. Cameran says he has to learn to be accountable, and he believes that was the problem with him and Naomie. Naomie said it more harshly, but she was right. Cameran thinks it would be cathartic to talk to her about it, and also get his house cleaned.

Naomie visits Kathryn, who says they didn’t get to talk at the polo match, because she got sucked into a conversation with Thomas. He was expressing how he and Ashley aren’t doing well, and he’s not happy. She thinks he feels stuck because he’s paying for everything. Kathryn tells Naomie that she got an Instagram message that Ashley was a high-end escort for polo men in Santa Barbara. Naomie heard she was a polo rat. In her interview, Naomie thinks Ashley must have some kind of monetary ambition. Naomie asks if Kathryn is nervous, and she says, not about Ashley, but seeing Patricia will be intense. We flash back to Kathryn telling Shep that she thought she was being served when she got the invitation. Naomie thinks Patricia is over it. In her interview, Kathryn believes it’s a test. Patricia picked the most formal type of event for her to eff up. She tells Naomie that she’s going with Shep, and Naomie says Craig texted her about asking someone else, and seemed to be trying to make her feel like it was her decision. Kathryn asks, why can’t he be straight up? and Naomie says, because he’s Craig.

Craig and Austen pick up their outfits for the Ball, which is tails for the men and gowns for the ladies. Austen tells Craig last night was not an early night. We see a clip of Austen and some of the other guys doing karaoke. Craig says he made it there. Austen says he’s never worn tails. Shep joins them, and says it’s been a while since he’s worn them, explaining that the vest must be even with the coat. In his interview, Shep says the girls get to wear cool dresses, while the men are like Star Wars stormtroopers; everyone looks the same. Craig says he might have to paint his brace. He asks if that girl is still around; the one Thomas is dating. Shep says she is. They talk about Ashley asking if they’d date her, and in his interview, Shep says it’s like she’s hedging her bets. Craig thinks Thomas is throwing money at her to shut her up. She still has no job. Austen thought she was a nurse in California, but Craig says she’s not working now. He asks if Whitney didn’t ask Thomas how much it would take to pay her off. We see a clip of just that, and Ashley suggests five thousand. Being the gentleman he is, Whitney says it should be more like fifty, and suggests Thomas do it.

Everyone gets ready. Ashley asks Thomas for a stiff drink. In his interview, Thomas says if it wasn’t for Ashley’s persistence, they’d have broken up. She feels they still have a chance to make it, and he thinks she has a point. He gives her a cocktail, and a present. He hopes things start looking up. In his interview, he says he doesn’t want to waste his remaining years looking for a partner to share his life with. Ashley opens the box, and its’ a locket with their initials on it. She says she’ll never take it off, and he puts it on her. In his interview, he says he doesn’t want any regrets, and wants to make sure he’s given it everything he has. Ashley says she’ll probably see his baby momma there. Thomas asks if Ashley is going to chat with her, and Ashley says she wants to feel comfortable. Thomas says he gets along with her well.

Chelsea goes to Kathryn’s hotel room, since getting ready with two kids isn’t doable. Ooh, Chelsea is wearing a fur stole, hopefully faux. Chelsea says it’s like a Dior commercial. Kathryn says it’s her first invite in five years. Patricia thought she was a liability. She’s been obsessed with white tie, so there’s no room for criticism. Chelsea says Patricia needs to know her outside of Thomas. Kathryn says she doesn’t care to. She says, Patricia was a single mom going after a single mom. In her interview, Kathryn says Patricia believed Thomas. It’s too bad Patricia didn’t know her outside of that. Austen calls Chelsea, and says he’ll be there in ten. Kathryn says she’s always ready on time, but I’m not sure if she’s being sarcastic.

The quartet plays. The steps outside are covered with bubbles that look like snow. Everything is sparkly and beautiful, including Patricia. Glittering Christmas trees and white lights are everywhere. Champagne is served. Ashley tells Thomas that she hopes to enjoy the company of their friends, but she doesn’t really have any.

Jennifer tells everyone that her child’s favorite word is boobie – in public. Everyone trickles in. Cameran says it’s like the Titanic. Whitney tells Ashley that she looks like Ava Gardner, 1961. Quite debatable. JD (bleh) walks in, saying, let’s get the party started, wearing fur coat over his shoulders. Elizabeth tells him that he looks good. That’s what stress does to you.

Cameran asks if Ashley and Thomas are still together, and Naomie says, very much.  A dude whose name I can’t catch, says there’s an awkward rumor, and Cameran asks if Ashley is pregnant. He says that’s the wrong tree; it’s in the opposite direction. Cameran says, an escort? He says he heard it from a family friend in Santa Barbara. Jennifer isn’t buying it. Craig walks in with his date, Bella, and Naomie gets all weird.

Cameran asks Craig what kind of date it is, and he says they know each other. Cameran says she’ll shut up then, but I’m not sure what all that meant. Thomas asks Whitney, who’s that, looking at Kathryn. He says he didn’t recognize her, and now he lost his train of thought. Kathryn says she’s going the My Fair Lady route. In her interview, Patricia says enough people have told her Kathryn has been redeemed; she wants to see it for herself. She doesn’t want to think of this as test, but… Shep tells Kathryn to let the party settle before she approaches Patricia.

Mingling happens. Shep asks if Kathryn is okay, and she says she’s always good. Austen says Ashley reminds him of Cruella de Vil. That’s certainly more accurate than Ava Gardner. Danni talks to Jennifer, who says her relationship with JD is transforming. Danni says, next stop, boyfriend. Jennifer says she has three little boyfriends at home. Patricia explains to Austen how to sit in tails. Everyone sits down to diner.

Kathryn takes her gloves off with her teeth, and Austen says that’s definitely the way it’s done. Shep pulls them off for her, pretends to sneeze in them, and puts them in his coat pocket. She tells him to keep them. Dinner is served. Cameran FaceTimes with Jason. Whitney says he’s missed. Patricia tells a friend that Kathryn is the one with the tiara. Kathryn knows their staring at her, and says she wants to thank Patricia for inviting her. In her interview, Kathryn says Patricia has a statuesque resting bitch face, and she can’t read her. Bella cuts Craig’s food for him. I have no words. Bella steps away, and Cameran asks if he’s going to talk to Naomie. He says he needs a few drinks first. Jennifer says she’s had no contact with Kathryn, and Ashley says she burned that bitch. Kathryn tells her table about last seeing Jennifer at the deposition where she lied. We flash back to the reunion, and Kathryn calling her a liar. Kathryn says Jennifer deserves no acknowledgement from her. Ashley tells Jennifer that Kathryn says she never thinks about her, but she’s delusional. Every night, she thinks about how Ashley Jacobs is winning. Thomas looks like he has a headache.

Kathryn asks Chelsea about the rumor. She’s not being mean, just throwing it out there. Chelsea asks how much escorts make, since she’s a businesswoman. Naomie makes fun of Bella, who doesn’t know to take her gloves off for dinner. Jennifer tells Thomas it’s not going well with Ashley, and he says she lacks diplomacy. Jennifer says she’s not from the South. Austen starts to talk about the rumor, and Thomas says it’s absurd. Jennifer says she moved there for Thomas; it’s not fair.

Austen says women can be nasty, but it’s being said Ashley is an escort. Jennifer says she has a career, and his remarks are incendiary. Ashley appears in a puff of smoke like the wicked witch. She asks if Austen thinks she’s a nurse. Austen says he has no idea. He’s never seen her do anything but spend Thomas’s money. Jennifer says that’s insulting, and says he called her hooker. Austen says he was just relaying what’s being said. In his interview, Austen says if it was his girlfriend, he would hope someone would tell him. Jennifer asks what if it was Austen’s sister, and they start to argue. Patricia watches from her table, telling Elizabeth the dynamics are interesting. Ashley tries to shove her nursing license in Austen’s hand, and when he won’t take it, shoves it in his face. Cameran asks Whitney what’s with the card Ashley is pushing at Austen? Craig thinks Thomas is happier when Ashley’s not there. Ashley screeches at Austen that she needs a South Carolina license to work in South Carolina. He asks what’s happening with that, and she squawks, it’s called a process. She says there’s no reasoning with him. Thomas tells her to stop it, and be above it.

Austen tells Chelsea that Ashley brought his sister into it. Ashley gripes that Thomas didn’t have her back, and he says he didn’t want to stoop to that level. Dude whose name I don’t know says, the party isn’t going in your favor if everyone says you’re a hooker. A cautionary tale for us all. Ashley doesn’t want Craig to think she was hitting on him; she was just flattering his ego. Then she says it was a joke, because she can’t make up her mind which story to go with. Back at the table, Austen says she attacked him, and told her no one here was calling her that. Chelsea says, only their whole table. Ashley tells Craig that he’s not a backup. He has her confused with Kathryn. She’s not going to break up with Thomas then screw his friends. Craig says she’s not working, she’s spending Thomas’s money, then she says she’d date him or Shep if they were older. It as guy code to ask Thomas if he’s sure about her motives.

The music starts. Patricia wonders what deal is with Kathryn. She invited her, but is yet to be thanked or acknowledged. Elizabeth tells Patricia that Kathryn does want to talk to her. Patricia says, that, and a quarter, making me laugh. (In case you’re not familiar with the phrase, the rest is, will get you on the bus. In other words, it’s meaningless unless Kathryn puts her desire into action. Although the bus costs a lot more than a quarter now.) Kathryn dances with Shep, and Kathryn calls him aggressive. Austen and Chelsea dance. Kathryn asks Shep what to say to Patricia, and he tells her to be contrite. Thank her for the invitation, say she doesn’t want to bother her, but it’s such a lovely party. And it’s so much better than two years ago. They laugh. In her interview, Kathryn says five years ago, she was in exile, blacklisted, and painted as a psycho. We flash back to Patricia calling Kathryn a shameless strumpet. Kathryn wonders, do they hug? Kiss? Shake hands? She didn’t google the etiquette; she just googled the clothes.

Kathryn approaches Patricia, and thanks her for the invitation; it means a lot to be included. It’s been a while, but she wants Patricia to know how much she appreciates the beautiful evening. She says Patricia also looks lovely, and Patricia says, as does she. Patricia takes Kathryn’s hand and thanks her. Elizabeth gets up, and tells Kathryn to sit down. Watching, Shep is excited, saying, it’s all happening. Kathryn says it gives her a chance to be acceptable; it is very different from five years ago. We flash back to Kathryn screaming Thomas’s name while chasing him down the pier. Cameran tells Whitney that it’s jarring. He says like the mailman shaking the Doberman’s hand (isn’t that paw?)>Enemies coming together. Patricia tells Kathryn that Thomas said she’s doing well, and is having a good time with the babies. Kathryn says she also has a job, and structure is good for her. Being a mother is difficult, but it brings joy. Patricia asks about her job. When Kathryn says it’s at Gwenn’s, Patricia she always liked clothes, and looked good. She likes to get on her soapbox about women having careers. It’s important, and gives them a sense of accomplishment, whatever happens in life. Kathryn admits to looking up white tie, and Patricia is glad she did, because she looks perfect. Kathryn says she researched the history. Thomas comes over, but Ashley won’t have it, and can’t drag him away fast enough. Jennifer sits down, much to Jennifer’s dismay. Kathryn says she didn’t mean to interrupt, and takes her leave. In her interview, Patricia says she was pleasantly surprised. Kathryn was gracious, charming, and she was impressed by her demeanor. She feels a genuine liking for Kathryn. I nearly get tears in my eyes, if only because Kathryn has worked so hard to better herself against all odds. I also have to add that she does look fabulous. Her hair is in an updo with whitish streaks (probably extensions). She’s wearing an off-the-shoulder velvet gown that has a thigh-high side slit. The updo also sports a delicate tiara.

Kathryn tells Shep about how Patricia appreciated her googling white tie, and said she wore all the right things. She wanted Patricia to realize that she respects her. Shep says there’s not one person against her in the room. Kathryn says, actually, there is, but it’s irrelevant. He hugs her, and calls her his demure, well-behaved, wonderful date.

Thomas and Craig twirl in their tails. Whitney dips Cameran, and she tells him that he’s secretly the one she’s wanted all along. Kathryn goes back to her original table. Craig approaches Naomie and says he wants to apologize for things in their relationship. When she’s ready to talk, let him know. She says he’s not a genuine person and to eff off. He says, that’s not mature. In her interview, Naomie says it’s the moment she’s been waiting for; him saying she’s not the only problem. But he picks the night it stopped mattering. He says he’s sorry for everything that happened, and she tells him to go away. He mumbles apologies, and wanders off, telling someone, that went well.

There’s sporadic dancing. Patricia says, there’s no crazy going on, and wonders if she missed something. Kathryn goes out for smoke, and Ashley follows her. Kathryn is sitting outside on a bench, and Ashley asks if she can join her. Kathryn says she’d love it. Ashley says she didn’t want to talk upstairs. With everyone around, it gets her charged. Kathryn says she’s resolved her issues with everyone, even Patricia, and she’s in a good place. She’d like to understand where Ashley is coming from, since she has no clue. Ashley wants to begin by apologizing. She says things got heated at Hilton Head, and she’s sorry for her part in it. How about the part where she started it?  Kathryn has no idea where Ashley’s head is at. One minute, Ashley respects her, and the next, she’s a terrible person. Ashley crossed the line in so many ways. Ashley immediately becomes her true, evil queen self, and tells Kathryn, don’t deflect, which makes no sense whatsoever. Kathryn says she’s not. Ashley tells her not to forget her kids were taken from her. Kathryn says she can’t ever forget that. Ashley starts to rant, and Kathryn tells her to calm down. Ashley says, there she is. Kathryn says all Ashley is, is a gold-digger. No one likes her, including her boyfriend. Ashley says she’s not going anywhere, and Kathryn says it’s all in her head. Ashley insists that she and Thomas are best thing to ever happen to one another. Kathryn asks why he’s miserable and depressed then. She says they talk. Ashley gets all weird and shaky, and says when Kathryn calls or texts, it gets Thomas stressed. He can’t stand her. Kathryn says they talk all the time, and Ashley is freaking her out. Ashley tells her to be careful. She knows a lot of information. Kathryn asks if Ashley is threatening her, and Ashley says, yeah, she is.

Kathryn calls Ashley psychotic, but Ashley doesn’t care. Kathryn tells her to back the eff up, and realize her place. Ashley says she has life Kathryn wants; that’s why she’s so threatened. Ashley heads for the door, telling Kathryn God bless. Kathryn says, peace.

Ashley confronts Thomas, asking if he’s been talking smack about her with Kathryn. He insists he hasn’t. Ashley says Kathryn is nasty, and Thomas tells her to stop. He suggests they leave. Kathryn calls him over, and tells him that his girlfriend is a psycho. Ashley tells him not to be a p*ssy, and to speak up. Tell Kathryn how great their relationship is. Kathryn says they’re not talking about her, and Ashley tries to pull him by the arm. Thomas tells her that he’ll be there in a minute. She wants him to tell his baby to find someone else to screw. Danni has her head in her hands. Kathryn points out how Ashley treats her. She knows he’s in a hard spot, and has to go. She says Ashely is scary, and probably scares him too. She won’t accept Ashley being around her kids. She tells him to be careful. If Ashley threatened her, she’ll threaten him too.

Ashley says she wants to save Thomas, and tells him to give her a hug, because everyone thinks they’re breaking up. Kathryn says Ashley must be pretty flexible, since she manages to have her foot in her mouth and her head up her ass at the same time. She walks over to where Thomas and Ashley are standing. She tells Ashley to look her in the eye. She says Ashley crossed line as a mother; screw her. Ashley says she’d hoped they could be cool, and Kathryn says they’ll never be cool. She’ll be gone in a week. Ashley tells Kathryn she’s not the best mom, and does she want her kids to see her like that, pointing to the slit in her skirt. Oh man. Kathryn says Ashley needs to hear her. She’s such a child, and needs to STFU. She doesn’t want Ashley coming around her or her children. Ashley says, good luck with that, and smiles, edging closer to Thomas. Kathryn says she screwed with the wrong person, and screwed with the wrong family. Ashley says they’re not a family. She’s just an egg donor. Kathryn says it’s her effing town, and Ashley says she’s not going anywhere; God bless. Kathryn says, peace, bitch. Ashley tells Kathryn that she’ll in her prayers. Kathryn suggests she pray for herself. Danni cracks up, and Kathryn says, effing psycho.

The text tells us: Six months later, Thomas and Ashley are still together, but Thomas and Kathryn are joyfully co-parenting. And now, Kathryn has 50/500 custody. Yay!

Next time, the reunion.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Maxie looks through swimsuits in the Crimson closet. Lulu says she’s busted.

On the phone, Nelle says, so if things don’t work out, she has no way to protect herself. Michael comes in, and asks who she was talking to. She tells him that it was a lawyer advising her on the prenup.

Chase goes to the hospital to see Finn sees, He says they need to talk about his mother and their father.

Obrecht tells Peter to quit sniveling. He says she sedated him again, and wonders what happened. She tells him that she’s moved him, and welcomes him to Spoon Island. They’re in the stables. He yells, like that’s ever helped.

Valentin finds out that the stable hand had a family emergency, and tells them that he’ll take care of the horses.

Drew finds Nina at the MetroCourt. He wants to talk about Aurora. He thinks Nina has been hiding something for the last few weeks.

Lulu thought Maxie was on parental leave, but Maxie says there was a problem with Crimson’s Instagram story. She asks if Lulu is implying she’s neglecting her son, and Lulu wonders what’s going on with her attitude. Maxie says, for one, Lulu barged in, saying she was busted. Lulu says she was teasing. She came here to see Nina and set up a visit with Charlotte. Maxie says it doesn’t feel that long ago that she lost her job trying to get Lulu the same thing. Lulu says it’s ancient history, and asks why Maxie is digging it up. She thinks Maxie is finding a reason to be mad at her. Maxie says she doesn’t have to look very far.

Nina tells Drew that she’s not hiding anything. He asks her to explain next month’s issue. He just had to talk a publisher off the ledge. The next issue is due at the printer tomorrow, and over a quarter of the letterhead space is unsold. Nina insists it was a communication breakdown. She says, It isn’t supposed to go until… and realizes it is tomorrow. She can’t believe this happened. Drew can’t believe the oversight. With that much left unsold, the magazine is going to hemorrhage money. They’ll have to cut features in the September issue. Nina says he can’t, but he says this is what happens when things fall through the cracks. He asks her, what’s going on?

Peter calls out he’s in the stables; someone help! Obrecht asks if he’s finished. She thought he’d appreciate a change of scenery. She and his father shared many happy times there – until he tried to gas her to death along with Lulu. Peter yells some more, and she asks him to kindly stop his banshee wailing. He tells her the horses need to be taken care of, but she says the equestrian staff won’t be there for the next few days. He asks if she’s going to keep dragging him from place to place forever. She says, forever is just a word. Everything comes to an end. When the story comes to a conclusion, so will he. She doesn’t want to waste the time they have. She looks in her bag, but can’t find her notebook.

Chase tells Finn not to worry about his parents’ impending visit. They’ve been invited to Germany. Finn says he wasn’t worried. He knows Chase was looking forward to seeing them. Chase says he tried calling Finn, but it went to voicemail. Finn says he’s not avoiding Chase; he’s been busy with something. Chase asks, what?

Nelle tells Michael that she wanted to make sure signing the prenup is the best decision. It’s not a corporate merger; it’s her life. They said it’s pretty straightforward with no red flags, but it seems unromantic to go in thinking it’s going to fail. Michael gets it, but it’s not his idea. She asks why he was so insistent then. He tells her the Quartermaine’s are protective of their fortune. Ned refused to officiate unless she signed it, but don’t take it personally. Everyone who comes into the family has to do the same thing. It only comes into play if they divorce, and he’s not planning on it. Is she? Nelle says she has no reservations about signing; it’s just a formality. As long as they’re together, the papers are meaningless. She signs it, and says, all done. Michael thanks her for being understanding. The only things left is to say their vows. Nelle says she has a lot to get ready for, and Michael tells her to put the prenup in a random drawer, and never look at it again.

Finn tells Chase it might have more to do with his area of expertise. Chase gets a text from Michael, saying, she signed the prenup; UR ON. Chase says he has to go, unless there’s a crime to report. Finn thinks he can handle it.

Nina apologizes to Drew, saying it won’t happen again. He tells her that he’s someone who cares about her, and thinks she didn’t take enough time to grieve. She admits to throwing herself into her work, but it suited her fine. Drew says, maybe, until this. She says they don’t know each other well, but assures him it’s an anomaly. He says, it’s not the end of the world. They can spread the deficit out over a few months. Nina says she’ll get the ads sold. He appreciates the effort, but thinks there’s no way she can do it by tomorrow. She says, watch her; she won’t let him down. Drew tells her, good luck, and leaves. Valentin walks in.

Lulu asks Maxie if they didn’t laugh and have fun, and weren’t they overjoyed with James coming home? Was she dreaming? Maxie says, it happened, and Lulu asks, what is this? How can they have a day like yesterday, and now Maxie is treating her like dirt? Maxie says maybe it’s because Nina’s assistant called her because they weren’t prepped, so she had to come to the place where Nathan was shot. It’s made her remember how he’ll never hold James, and James will never know him as anything but a photo. If the super journalist had thought it through, that could have been avoided. Lulu say she’s actually lost track of how long she’s been apologizing, and begging for Maxie’s forgiveness. Maxie says, five months; Nathan died five months ago. Lulu knows Maxie is living her worst nightmare. Maxie says Lulu thinks she’ll get over it, and they’ll go back to being best friends. Lulu says she stays up at night, wondering how she could have done things differently. Maxie says, join the club. Lulu says, she blew, and she’s sorrier than she can ever say. She wasn’t just bringing Faison out to further her career. She thought he would be arrested, and Maxie and her family would be safe. Maxie says, another Spencer plan goes down in flames. Lulu says every time Maxie pushes her away, then there’s a moment when she’s given hope, and thinks their friendship is back. Is it real or a game? Is it her version of revenge? She asks if she’s just supposed to take Maxie’s punishment forever. Maxie says Lulu is the one who treats her friends like garbage to get what she wants. She says, it’s not fair to give a deadline on grief, but Lulu wonders when she’s going to be forgiven. Maxie says, as usual, it’s all about her. She’s a self-righteous narcissist. Lulu says Maxie can say what she wants, but she’s trying. Maxie says she treated someone she said she cares about like garbage. She turns her back to Lulu, who throws a beachball at her. They start to fight with pool noodles.

Nina asks what Valentin is doing there, and he says, getting breakfast. She says he has staff to do that. He admits he welcomed the opportunity to bump into her, and she asks what his angle is. He says, no angle, and she asks if he’s done blackmailing her to stay in the marriage. He says running into her was serendipity. Charlotte wants to invite her to dinner. She says, now it’s emotional blackmail, but she knows better. Charlotte is staying with Lulu, who said she can see Charlotte whenever she wants. Valentin says it means a lot for her to stay in Charlotte’s life. Nina gets a call. When she steps into the hallway, Valentin says, 3… 2… 1… We hear Nina say, what?! She comes back and asks, what the hell did he do?

Obrecht says it must be here somewhere, and Peter suggests she dropped it when she was moving him. She says she thought she put it in her bag before she took him. She must have left it in the cabin. She has to go back. Peter says, maybe they came back for a second look. If they find the notebook, they’ll turn it into the police. She can’t keep cops away forever. It’s time to choose between her revenge and her freedom.

Nelle mopes on the couch, and Ned asks if she has bridal jitters. She says, guilty, and he tells her not to worry. At least about the wedding. He’s been trying to get Michael to relax and enjoy his final hours as a free man. He asks if she has anything planned, and she says she’s tying up odds and ends; she’s not in a celebrating mood. The prenup was a buzzkill; all clinical. He says she knows how it works in their family. Olivia did the same thing; she insisted. Nelle asks, what about him? He says the thought never occurred to him. He’s been married before, but knew this would last forever. It’s recommended, but not mandated. Olivia wanted to be no question that they weren’t getting married for money. He thinks it was a good idea. It takes the doubt out of marriage. He thinks Nelle made the right decision.

Nelle’s phone rings. It’s Chase. He needs to see her right now.

Lulu starts to throw a shoe, but Maxie stops her, saying they’re on loan for the Instagram story. Lulu puts it back gently, saying she doesn’t think it was damaged. Maxie says it was really close, and they laugh.

Nina says how dare Valentin? It’s outrageous, buying the remaining ad space for the August issue. He asks if he can be honest, and she says, why start now? as I would have said. He overheard she needed sales, and he wanted to be of assistance. Cassadine Enterprises has a robust ad budget. She hasn’t even looked at it. She reads a copy on her phone. To my darling wife… I’m sorry. My heart yearns for your forgiveness. I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you. Come back and make my life full again. (I might have paraphrased a tad there.)

Finn leaves another message for Anna, saying he’s on to something, but doesn’t want to explain in a message. He asks her to call him back. He sees Deanna bringing in Wyatt, who has poison oak. He says he’ll take a look. Deanna is surprised he doesn’t have anything more pressing, but he insists he has the time.

Chase meets Nelle on the docks. Shirtless, because he needed to get in his run. I roll my eyes. He tells her that he wanted to apologize for how he acted at the MetroCourt. He went too far. He meant everything he said, but it wasn’t fair to throw it in her face so close to the wedding. He was wrong anyway. Michael clearly wants a future with her and their child. He’s sure the Quartermaines will welcome her into the fold. She’ll be bringing new blood to the family. Nelle asks if he thinks that’s enough, and he says, all that matters is Michael wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He asks if she’s been given reason for doubt, and she mentions the prenup.

Drew arrives at the Quartermaine’s. He tells Michael that he heard he’s getting married; it’s kind of sudden. Ned says he can assure Drew that they all hounded him plenty. He says they’re going to put their reservations aside, and honor the Quartermaine tradition of sending a bachelor off in style. He asks if they are still getting married. He saw Nelle sulking, and thinks the prenup is getting under her skin.

Chase tells Nelle that he didn’t mean to upset her. She says it’s none of his business, but he says divorce scares him. How will she provide for herself? She says they’re not getting divorced, and he asks if Michael agrees. The more he hears about it, the more he doesn’t like it. She doesn’t have to go through with it. She asks what the alternative is, and he says they can still be together.

Ned says he has cigars with their names on them, and leaves to get them. Drew asks if Michael is going to break it to him that cigars make him gag. Michael knows how important traditions are with the Quartermaines. Drew wonders why everyone else seems more excited than Michael is.

Nelle says Chase can’t be serious. When they were at the courthouse, he was threatening her. Was it just romance? He admits his pride got the better of him. He was scared to admit how he felt when he saw her. She’d moved on. He shouldn’t have been afraid to tell her. She asks what makes him think she cares? He says it was now or never, and he’d kick himself if he didn’t. He says Michael is in it for the baby. He can get a divorce, and sole custody. Chase loves her. He can never give her the life she deserves, but he loves her. She says it’s not that easy. Michael is the father of her child, and they’ve planned a life together. Chase says they can raise the baby. They’ll find a place far from the Quartermaines and Corinthoses. They can do things right this time. He can give her the love Michael never could. She says Michael can give her something Chase can’t.

Maxie says she’ll never look at pool noodles the same way, and Lulu says she’ll help clean up. Maxie gets a message that the ad space was sold, and tells her to leave it. She says she doesn’t hate Lulu; she hates herself. She goes back and forth in her head, and knows Lulu isn’t the reason Nathan was killed. He was determined to lure Faison there to arrest him. If Lulu hadn’t written the story, he’d have found another way to track him down. Lulu says, but she did. Her fear of failure led her to take a shortcut. Ambition clouded her judgement. She can understand why Maxie wants to see her suffer. Maxie doesn’t want that, but at the same time, her happiness makes Maxie’s grief worse. She’s not proud of it, but when she sees Lulu with her family, she starts mourning all over again; for the family she’ll never have. Lulu says her life is less perfect and happy with Dante gone. Maxie says misery loves company, but she mostly thinks about how lucky Lulu is. The man she loves is coming home eventually. The man Maxie loves, never will.

Nina asks Valentin how he expects her to react? Be humbled? Touched? Grateful? He says they’re all great. She tells him the ads are not going in. He asks how she’s going to justify turning down revenue; it’s not that objectionable. She says he didn’t say their names, but people will connect the dots. It undermines her authority as editor-in-chief. He asks, how? Proving to the world she’d loved? She says she can’t trust him again. She doesn’t think he’s even aware of lying all the time. He says he never lied about loving her, and she says, he lied about everything else. The final straw was finding out he took an innocent child to seek revenge against Anna. She remembers being pregnant, and felt love. She never wants anything to happen to a child, like he feels about Charlotte. He took an innocent boy, and gave him to Faison. It changed how she’ll look at him forever.

Peter tells Obrecht, if the cops find the journal, they’ll know he was there with her. She says even if they connect it, they’ll never find them there. Really? Really? After they found Mike and Avery there, and it was the first place they wanted to look for Faison? Really? Peter says they’ve lost two chapters, and have to start over. Who knows how long they’ll be safe there? Obrecht says he’s cunning, but she has an excellent memory; thank you, Sodoku. She tells him, let’s pick up where we left off.

Finn wraps Wyatt’s arm, and gives him some cream, saying he’ll explain it to Wyatt’s mom. He wonders if he can ask Wyatt a question. Wyatt asks, what? and Finn asks if he could identify the man in the woods if he showed him a picture. He brings up a picture of Peter on his phone.

Lulu tells Maxie that she’s sorry. She never wanted to add to Maxie’s grief. Maxie knows, and she’s sorry too. She’s all over the place right now. Lulu says she wants to respect how Maxie is feeling. If it means giving her space… Lulu starts to leave, saying she wants Maxie to know she’s there, if she’s ever ready, and know she loves her no matter what. Maxie asks her to wait, and says she loves Lulu, no matter what. They hug.

Michael tells Drew that he thought it through, and given the situation, it seemed like the right choice. Drew asks, for him or his kid? and Michael says, what’s right for his kid is right for him. Drew trusts he knows what he’s doing. He thinks they should make an effort to try to act like family again. Michael likes it. Drew congratulates him, and they clink glasses.

Nelle tells Chase that Michael can give her stability and comfort. Why leave that behind just because he wants to whisk her away? She doesn’t want to make that mistake, and even if she did, how would they start a new life with Michael’s family looking for them? Chase says they’ll work it out. Nelle says she shouldn’t have come. She hopes he can move on. She has. He asks her to wait, but she jets.

Finn tells Wyatt to take his time, and look closely. Don’t tell him what he wants to hear, but tell him the truth. Wyatt doesn’t think it’s him, but Deanna interrupts before he can say more. Finn is needed in the ER stat. Finn tells Wyatt that his mother will get him in a second, and leaves. In the room alone, Wyatt says, it could have been the guy, but he had a beard. You’d think Finn might have thought of that. Being a junior spy and all.

Obrecht tells Peter that when they left their hero, all was lost. How is he feeling now? Peter says, useless, helpless, doomed. She tells him, don’t be so glum. Think of the novel as his legacy. It will outlast him, no matter what unfortunate ending comes his way.

Valentin tells Nina that he loves her, and she admitted she loved him too. They can fix anything. He has to take care of the horses, and tells her, if she wants, he’ll saddle Lumiere. He leaves, and Nina calls Obrecht.

Obrecht says Peter is holding back, and not to allow self-pity to interfere with the narrative flow. He says their hero was surprised to realize the things he’d chased – money, power, revenge – were all meaningless. He discovered what he loved most were moments – ice cream with an unexpected friend; laughing until your sides hurt, with a girl with sparkling blue eyes; a baby’s first breath and cry; the first time his mother reached out to hold him. Why, Octavian wondered, do we never understand life’s meaning and true value until we’re about to lose it all? Obrecht ponders.

Tomorrow, Jordan asks Stella for a favor, Nina tells Valentin that he can’t go home, and Mike tells Sonny that he’s gaining a daughter.

The Real Housewives of New York City

LuAnn rehearses with her accompanist. She didn’t expect to get arrested, and feels stressed that she only has four weeks to practice. She explains that her director worked with Liza Minelli, Chita Rivera, and other cabaret stars. I wonder if they’re hard-up for money. She says she’s lucky to be surrounded by a great team. Sonja will also be in the show to take the pressure off. The script is based on the story of LuAnn’s life, and the songs she likes to sing. Rachel Dratch will be involved somehow, but she doesn’t explain how that happened. The show is called #The Countess and Friends, just to mess with everyone who rags on her about being The Countess. Sonja arrives, thrilled to be a part of the show. She’s in her element. The director maps out what will be happening with Money Can’t Buy You Class. LuAnn will start telling a story, and Sonja will interrupt, saying that’s not how it happened. We see a clip from Sonja’s Caburlesque show. In her interview, LuAnn says Sonja will be wearing panties. It’s a snatch free zone.

Tinsley visits Carole, bringing her a present. Carole says Adam sent five dozen tulips. In her interview, Carole says it’s no secret Adam wants her back in his life, but she’s not sure how she feels. Tinsley gives Carole a pair of fingerless gloves that make a heart when you put them together. Carole says when her friend, Tripp, was walking Baby, Adam ended up coming back with her. Tinsley thinks it’s annoying that he’d walk in unannounced. Carole says break-ups are messy, and she wants to make it right. She’ll contact him when she has time. Scott is in town, and wants to live with Tinsley in New York. She wants to continue staying in the hotel, so they’re moving into the penthouse, which has three bedrooms. In her interview, Tinsley says they hung in during a year of long distance, now she’s happy to wake up next to him. She hopes she’s easy to live with, and Carole says, keep it cute. Good luck with that when you’re living together.

A package arrives. Carole has a friend who runs a matchmaking service, and it’s an invitation to her speed dating party. It’s really cool; a clear box with roses (about four inches of stem) in water. Like something the Queen would send out. They talk about who else could use a date in three minutes. Carole likes the idea.

Sonja drops by Bethenny’s place. Bethenny gives her another pair of Skinny Jeans. I’d call them burgundy, and Sonja declares them the color of the year. In her interview, Sonja says she’s not thrilled about Bethenny and Carole being on the outs, but she’s happy to be getting the jeans. In her interview, Bethenny thinks Sonja has no shortage of men, but needs to be strategic in her dating moves. Sonja wants to dip her toe in the dating pond, and has a profile online. Her flag is up, and it’s waving wildly.  Bethenny reads Sonja’s profession from the profile, and it’s a list of five thousand things. Bethenny tells her that it takes information from all the apps she has. She tells Sonja that no one looks at it anyway. The only look at the picture, age, and height.

Dorinda goes to Jovani. LuAnn needs something glam and wonderful for her cabaret act, and needs about ten costume changes. Dorinda says Jovani has been good to her over the years in lending her dresses, and she persuaded them to extend the favor to LuAnn. LuAnn wants to do a modern take on cabaret, and envisions different dresses for different scenarios. Dorinda wants her to look her best, and she does. Everything she puts on looks sparkly and fabulous, and there are a lot of mermaid hems. LuAnn is amazed that everything fits perfectly. Dorinda asks about court, and LuAnn says it was cancelled today. Her attorney wants to review the evidence. He’s hoping for no criminal charges, since she didn’t show criminal intent; she was under the influence, and not normally aggressive. She thinks having gone to rehab showed initiative, and is hoping for leniency, along with community service. Dorinda says, it will ultimately go where it’s going to go, which sounds like a bad fortune cookie.

Tinsley tells her precious little dog Bambi not worry about the suitcases. She’s not getting left behind. Tinsley’s friend, Michael, is helping her move. She tells him it’s the easiest move ever. She takes sweaters out of the oven, surprising both Michael and myself. I used to store extra dishes in the dishwasher, and admit to storing bakeware and the occasional box of cereal in the oven, but never clothes. I wish I’d thought of that with my first apartment, since the closet was a small triangle. But I digress… In her interview, Tinsley says she and Scott thought this should be the next step in the relationship. Michael stops her from just throwing really expensive shoes into a box. He refuses to watch as she does it anyway. She’s let Scott off the hook for helping, since he helped with the last move. In her interview, she says Scott is very much in charge at work, and she hopes him moving to New York puts them on a more equal level. him in charge at work. She shows Bambi around their new place. She says for once her clothes will be in a closet. In her interview, she explains she likes to always be with her man, and hopes this works out.

LuAnn meets Carole for coffee. They’re both boring coffee drinkers, just regular with milk. LuAnn is slightly more adventurous with cream. In her interview, Carole says she’s weirdly honored that LuAnn asked her to go for coffee after her meeting. LuAnn tells Carole that she’s been nesting. She’s supposed to stay away from people, places, and things, and is taking it day by day. The meetings help her to stay in line. In her interview, she says she doesn’t label herself. She makes a day to day decision not to drink, and she’s good with that advice. She tells Carole that the meetings encourage that she’s here for a reason, and to keep coming back. Carole asks being around other people drinking is cool, and LuAnn says it doesn’t matter if others drink. Carole says she thought it was a good move when LuAnn left he table at the Mayflower. LuAnn says not drinking is exhausting. She’d been burning the candle at both ends, and now she gets up early and does yoga. In her interview, Carole says she’s prepared to be a friend to this LuAnn, who understands her actions have consequences, and is trying hard to turn her life around. They talk about LuAnn’s upcoming cabaret, and Carole tells LuAnn to tell Sonja to wear underwear. LuAnn says she can’t play snatch-guard. She’ll be too busy singing.

Ramona meets a friend at the gym for a workout. In her interview, Ramona says the best thing about staying in shape is that you can wear anything. Truth! It sucks to go through a million outfits that don’t look right. Ramona says she hasn’t met the guy yet. She doesn’t know why she’s good with flirting, which she’d rather call, open to meeting men. She tells us that she has a high libido, which I didn’t need to know. The trainer helps with the machines. Ramona says she wants someone as smart or smarter than herself (which shouldn’t be too hard), but attraction is number one. Meeting men isn’t a problem, but meeting the right one is. Preach it, sister.

Dorinda and LuAnn pass the church where LuAnn’s AA meetings are held. They’re also near Dorinda’s church. LuAnn tells Dorinda that she’s keeping up the keeping up, but restaurants are the hardest. Dorinda says someone sent her a gift basket with wine, and it’s the first thing she thought of on a cold night. She’s proud of LuAnn. In her interview, LuAnn says it’s not easy. It’s like something you’ve learned for a long time, like brushing your teeth another way. It’s not the anxiety of not drinking, but the habit that you’re fighting. They go inside Dorinda’s church. She says it’s helped her get through difficult times. She likes to meditate, recalibrate, and refocus. She thinks it might be a good tool for LuAnn. They could go to church, and then have coffee. Dorinda shows LuAnn the candle she lit for her when she was in rehab. In her interview, LuAnn says Dorinda has been the most supportive. She thinks everyone’s thoughts and prayers together make a difference. Thank you. Dorinda tells LuAnn that Carole is doing a high-end super fun speed dating thing. She thinks LuAnn should come, just see what it’s like. In her interview, Dorinda thinks it might be good for LuAnn to go through the actions, but no real dating. She needs to date herself. The church looks familiar, but I didn’t see what street they’re on. They light a candle together, and Dorinda prays for strength for LuAnn.

It’s time for speed dating! Carole tells the matchmaker that she has six friends coming. Two are coming to observe, and the other four are in various stages of dating. The girls trickle in, with Ramona leading the pack, and latching on to a guy named Bryan before the dating even starts. Sonja says it’s amazing and mesmerizing to watch. In her interview, Bethenny says she and Dennis love each other, but he’s not capable of being a partner, so she’s open. It turns out she knows Bryan, and she says, the dating plot thickens. It’s the last place LuAnn wants to be, and Sonja asks a guy if she smells like mothballs. Tinsley says even if she wasn’t spoken for, no way would do this. She’s a Southern girl, and needs to be wined and dined. We flash back to the kiss she laid on Scott five minutes after meeting him. Carole finds out her date has kids, and it’s swipe left. Tinsley says Ramona’s got game. Dorinda says it’s like watching a fluffy kitty before it pounces on a tiny mouse. Bryan sits with Bethenny, and kind of hits on her. In her interview, she says it’s flattering, but he’s not her type. She doesn’t want to make herself like someone just because they like her. A guy asks LuAnn what she did for the holidays. She says she was supposed to go to South America, but didn’t make it.

Ramona kisses a dude for thinking she’s around 44, and it’s time to mingle. Carole didn’t meet the guy she wanted to (i.e. Bryan), because he was being devoured by Ramona and Bethenny. Ramona gets tequila for Bryan. A guy at the bar says he thinks Bryan likes Bethenny, but Ramona claims she’s just returning the favor since he bought her a drink. She slinks over with it, and makes a presentation. In her interview, Bethenny does an over-the-top, but accurate imitation of her. Tinsley tells a few of the girls about staying in Cartagena, Columbia, and wants everyone to go there with her. Dorinda only knows the scary things that happen in Columbia, and prefers places that have commercials, like the Bahamas. Tinsley shows pictures of the house she stayed in, and Carole says she had them at private island. Sonja talks to a guy about bondage. Carole tells everyone about the trip. Sonja can’t imagine not having an amazing time. Wow. Is she optimistic.

Next time, the Cartagena trip, Ramona gets a ride in a wheelchair, and Bethenny tells Dorinda that she doesn’t always have to share.

🍴 On MasterChef, the contestants made dinner for the wedding of the Season 7 winner, Shaun O’Neale. Juni and Julia were team captains, blue and red respectively, but something happened that I missed (because, dogs), and Taylor ended up taking Juni’s place. The red team undercooked the duck to the point where it was nearly raw, and needed to re-plate that for a few guests. Unfortunately, they’d made the genius move of throwing out everything that was left, and had to start from scratch. Miraculously, they still won. And we learned that service isn’t over until the last person leaves. On the losing blue team, Gordon deemed Taylor and Shanika safe from elimination. To everyone’s surprise, there was no pressure test. Gordon got right to the point, saying Ashley cracked under pressure, and Juni let go of his responsibility. It was Juni who was out, Gordon saying the team was doomed before they started. They had a bad concept and lost direction. Still, Juni gave a graceful exit, thankful for the opportunities. He said there weren’t many people who could say they cooked in the MasterChef kitchen, and that Gordon tasted their food. He thought he made his mom proud. Well said. Next week, it’s crawfish, and Aaron cooks alongside the chefs. It’s the shock of the season, and Joe says there’s more on the line than they thought.

🔥 A once vibrant town that had become desolate, Greenville, Mississippi was Gordon’s destination on 24 Hours to Hell and Back. Sherman’s, owned by the Nimrod family, had been a thriving business, but no more. Gordon made every joke possible about the Nimrod name, since it’s also slang for inept person. Even they recognized the wisdom in not changing the restaurant’s name when they bought it. Gordon did his disguise thing, and found the flounder to be funky; the food dull, bland, embarrassing, and atrocious; and no surprise, the owners argued these points. The hidden cameras revealed loads of cross contamination, and the usual cockroaches. The owners were resistant to change, but Gordon convinced them to give one of the staff the new position of running the kitchen. He also persuaded them, as only Gordon can, to stop arguing with the patrons and online reviewers, and not to allow the chef to use the microwave. Before he disappeared into the night, Gordon told them to watch out for 6’2” Scottish guys with beards. Three months later, the business is booming, and the online reviews are great. Next time, Hollywood and a very dysfunctional family. The whole 24-hour thing is really amazing.

July 10, 2018 – Obrecht Pretends To Be a Kinkball, Justin Visits Wyatt & Hannah Has a Fake Birthday

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jason tells Sonny to guard himself when it comes to his father. He has a lot going on, and he’s handling it as best he can. Sonny wishes he thought that way. Jason says if Sonny needs help with anything, let him know. Sonny asks about Peter, but Jason says he’s out of it. He hates that Peter is out there, but respects Anna’s right to handle it how she sees fit. Sonny says, he’ll walk away clean, but Jason says, maybe not. The PCPD hired Sam and Curtis to find him.

Sam meets Curtis at the MetroCourt. He’s surprised there’s no apology, and she asks, for what? He tells her that she woke him up at the crack of dawn. She calls him a baby, and he says, babies need their sleep. He says that the MetroCourt uses the Port Charles laundry service, and whoever was pushing that cart is not an employee there.

Finn tells Franco that there’s a part of this that’s not computing. The notes are about the PK Sinclair book. Why would Wyatt say that Obrecht was holding someone captive? While Peter isn’t necessarily responsible for her son’s death, do the math. Franco says he doesn’t like math, but if he’s doing it, he’s got it. He thinks Finn doesn’t really care about Peter. He’s just interested because of Anna.

Peter tells Nina that Wyatt promised he’d tell someone; the police could be there any minute. If they find them both there, it’s over for her; there’s no going back. Or, she could set him free. Nina says, then what? He’s in no shape to go anywhere. He says he’ll die or get caught. Either way, if the latter happens, and she’s set him free, he won’t implicate her. He won’t even mention her name; it’s a win-win. It’s a fair shot, especially for her. She can go back to her life with no consequences. He asks her to make the best choice for both of them. She walks to the bed, and starts to untie his wrists.

Doc visits Carly, asking if she’s ready for their session, or a visit. He asks how she is, and she says, fantastic. He wonders why he doesn’t believe her, and she says because she’s in Ferncliff. She asks if he brought the cards, and he produces a deck. He tells her that he’s happy to play poker, but since they’re here. how about using the time explore where she’s at? She asks if he’s still on that, and he says psychiatrists are persistent that way. She says, so he wants to explore her grief over Morgan.

Chase asks Nelle what she’s doing, and she says, looking for bridal gowns for pregnant women. He says she’d look beautiful in anything. He tells her the marriage to Michael isn’t going to work, and they both know it.

Jason asks Sonny what angle Michael is working. He wishes it didn’t involve marrying Nelle. Michael joins them, and says he’s glad they’re together. There’s been a development, and the wedding has been moved up. He and Nelle are getting married tomorrow.

Curtis tells Sam that the employee on duty called in sick. Whether they were a no show or really sick, they didn’t crack under questioning, but the employee who worked that night didn’t clock in until forty-five minutes after the time stamp on the security footage. All of the other employees were on other floors. The odds are increasing that someone was in the cart. Sam adds that there was no sign of Peter leaving the hotel.

Franco tells Finn not to overreact. Finn says, who’s overreacting? There’s only a guy tied to a bed who Obrecht is keeping prisoner. Franco says Obrecht isn’t thinking clearly; she just lost her son. Finn doesn’t care about Peter. He just cares about his girlfriend. Finn says he’s right. He doesn’t care, but Anna does. She needs to find her son. He’s going to do everything he can to get Peter out of the cabin alive. Finn gets in the elevator. Franco realizes Finn is definitely not changing his mind, and gets in the elevator with him.

Sonny asks Michael if it was Nelle’s idea to have the wedding as soon as possible, but Michael says it was his. He needs to be locked in for his strategy to work. Jason isn’t on board with it, but Michael says it’s not his decision. Sonny agrees, and says he trusts Michael to make the right one.

Carly tells Doc that Morgan’s death was a gift to Nelle. It gave her the edge to get to their family, and Carly walked right into it. She wanted to believe Morgan could come back. Doc says her feelings are natural and understandable, but she says he has to include Nelle. Carly says Nelle came to see her yesterday. Doc says it must have been an unwelcome visit, and Carly says he has no idea. Doc asks what she wanted, and Carly says Nelle wanted her to know she’d forgiven her, and managed to smile while she said it. After that, she jumped to goading, and told Carly a story about how she took Josslyn lingerie shopping. She doesn’t believe it, but Nelle saved the best for last. She and Michael are getting married. She had the ring to prove it, and was waving it under Carly’s nose. Doc asks about her reaction, since she seems calmer than he would have expected. Carly says that’s because she played it perfectly. She smiled, said all the right things, and outplayed Nelle. It’s the first time she’s felt like herself in months. Doc says, the real Carly. Carly says she finally turned it around, but she doesn’t understand why it took so long to get there. Doc says, since on they’re on the subject, why don’t they explore that for a while?

Nelle tells Chase that Michael loves her. Chase asks if he’s told her that, and Nelle says, it’s called forgiveness. Chase tells her, even if he says it, how long will it last? She says Michael doesn’t care what his family thinks, but Chase says, deep down he does. What if he divorces her? She’ll be stripped of everything, including her baby.

As Obrecht reaches the cabin, Finn calls her name. She accuses him of following her, but he says he and Franco were just out for a stroll. Obrecht tells them that she should call the police. Finn says, she should, but Franco says it’s not necessary. She asks if he supports this witch-hunt. Finn is harassing her to look more virile to his scarecrow girlfriend. She tells them it’s her special place where she comes to be alone. Franco encourages Finn to leave, but he kicks the door to the cabin open. Obrecht follows behind him, saying he’s breaking and entering. The cabin is empty.

Nelle says Chase clearly thinks her marriage is doomed, and needs to look at it objectively. He says he’s trying to help her. She asks if she’s supposed to leave the father of her baby. For what alternative? Chase says, him.

Jason tells Michael that Nelle is in a league of her own. No one has been able to handle her so far, even Sonny. Sonny says he didn’t see it coming. He’d been dealing with his dad, but now he sees it. Everyone does, even Michael. When he told Carly to have faith in Michael, he believed it. Michael says Nelle is overconfident. She got rid of his mother, and thinks she can do whatever she wants now; it makes her vulnerable. Sonny says Michael is a born strategist. After Sonny killed AJ, it was like looking at a stranger. It hurt like hell, but it was brilliant and it worked. If Michael wants to take Nelle down, he will.

Carly tells Doc the shower was the icing on the cake for Nelle. Carly gave her what she wanted. She was a furious, out of control person she didn’t even recognize. It helped create the divide with Josslyn. She couldn’t sit back and let Nelle spin her psycho wheels. She wishes she’d never been on the stairs, and Doc asks why she was. Carly tells him that Josslyn wanted her to apologize, and Doc says, so she was trying to repair things with daughter. Carly says she went upstairs, but Nelle’s taunts continued, then she had the baby blanket. She knows Nelle’s end game wasn’t never to fall down the stairs, but when it happened, it couldn’t have ended better. She and the baby were fine, and Carly came out looking certifiable. It’s not like her to let someone have that kind of power. She was focused on stopping Nelle, and keeping her out of Michael and Josslyn’s lives; she lost perspective. She could have fought Nelle in her sleep before. Doc asks, before what? It was about protecting Michael and Josslyn, the way she couldn’t protect Morgan.

Curtis says Sam was spot on, and they should concentrate on who was wheeling the cart. Sam says she went back, and focused more on the footage. She found something that might narrow their search.

Obrecht asks Finn and Franco if they found what they wanted. She tells them to leave the premises, and she’ll be expecting payment for the door. Franco tells Finn there’s nothing to find, but Finn wonders about the picture. He sees the restraints still tied to the bed, and asks where Peter is. Tell him, or he’ll get the cops; her choice. She asks Franco if he believes this nonsense. He says he doesn’t want to, but it is a little suspicious; tell them what happened. She says the boy did see something shocking, but it’s not what they think.

Chase tells Nelle that he believed in a girl who walked into the police station in Maine. Deep down, what she wants is to be loved and seen. He saw her, and swore she saw him too. Nelle says he followed her because he wanted payback; his fury is showing. Chase says he is angry; with himself. He didn’t take care of her when he had the chance.

Carly tells Doc when Morgan died, she was handed her first true defeat. Doc asks if she never lost before, and she says, not like that. She’s struggled more than once, but was always able to dig her way out, but sheer force of will or it just got better on its own. When Michael was in a coma, she refused to give up. She had Patrick perform experimental surgery, and Michael woke up. Doc says, Morgan won’t, and she says she hasn’t been able to come to grips with that. Even though he grew to be big and tall, she can still feel him in her arms like a baby. What happened to Morgan shot her instincts into overdrive. She didn’t want to fail her other kids the way she failed him. She takes responsibility. Ava came in her house, and tampered with Morgan’s medication. She and Sonny knew how hard he’d worked. It was a victory Ava took away from him, sending him on a downward spiral, and they knew it. They knew something was off, but didn’t want Morgan to know. They wanted him to think they had faith in him. He died doing something crazy because they were afraid to rock the boat. Doc thinks it’s difficult to get from point A to point B with that.

Michael thanks Sonny. Jason says it’s not about faith. He trusts Michael. Michael asks, why not on this? Jason says he loves Michael too much to let him throw his life away. Michael says the PCPD is backing him. Sonny wonders since when, and Michael says, recently. Sonny tells Michael that he wants to know everything.

Obrecht tells Finn and Franco it’s been a difficult time for her; losing her son was more pain than she could bear. She looked to others for relief. Kinky sex with a willing and adventurous partner. The boy did see someone tied to the bed, but not Henrik. Finn asks if Franco is buying this, and Franco says it’s not like there’s anything really incriminating. She says they failed to find Anna’s precious offspring. He’s out there somewhere, but hers is gone forever. Finn and Franco leave.

Sam tells Curtis that she couldn’t see a face, but she zoomed in on the shoes. She shows them to Curtis, who acts like he’s been blinded, saying, what are those? She says they’re sturdy work shoes like a lot of people wear. She tells him to look closer, and points out a heel, or what passes for one in unisex shoe world. Curtis asks if she thinks it’s a woman, and she says, bingo.

Obrecht sees Nina outside, and tells her Peter is gone. She tells Obrecht that he’s in the root cellar. He’s still secure, but exhausted. He can barely move, and it will take both of them to carry him.

Jason tells Michael that he’s out of his mind. Michael insists it’s going to work. Jason says he can’t do this to his parents, but Michael says it has nothing to do with them. Jason says they’re just getting back on their feet after losing Morgan, and Michael says to stop guilt tripping him. Jason says he’s just giving Michael the facts. He’s the one kid that Sonny and Carly raised together; he’s the heart of the family. Michael says his child is his heart, and it’s being held hostage. Jason says Nelle is crazy, dangerous, and violent. Michael says she’s in their lives because of him, so it’s up to him to fix it. This is the only way. If he doesn’t do this, Nelle will have as much say as he does in their child’s life, and he won’t have it. He would do anything to protect his child. Jason says that’s how his parents feel, but it’s his child, his choice, and his risk. Michael tells Jason not to take it away.

Doc tells Carly when terrible things happen, we can blame one thing or another, but it doesn’t matter. She’s endured the worst thing that can happen to a parent, but she’s here; living and breathing, and focused on moving forward. He asks what she wants her life to look like now, but there’s a knock at the door. It’s Sonny, who was told the session was wrapping up. Doc says, it is, and tells Carly that they’ll talk soon; she did the work. She gives him his cards, and when he leaves, Sonny hugs her. She’s glad he’s there, but why? He has something to tell her, and she says nothing can be worse than Nelle marrying Michael. Sonny says, even if they’re getting married tomorrow?

Franco says there was no sign of Faison Junior, but Finn says the restraints were there. He thinks they should get the police to dust for prints and look for DNA. Franco says if they find Peter, they’ll arrest him. Is that what Anna wants? Finn says it’s preferable to him being dead. Franco thinks he should discuss it with Anna first and get her approval. Finn walks away, and Franco messes with his phone.

Obrecht says Nina lied to her. Nina says she protected Obrecht, and to give Peter the meds as promised. Not that he deserves them. Obrecht says she knew Nina would fall prey to his so-called charms. Nina says he’s weak, and if it wasn’t for her, Obrecht would be in police custody. Obrecht wonders how Franco and Finn knew. Her phone dings, and she says it’s a text from Franco. Finn is thisclose to alerting the authorities. She tells Nina there’s been a change of plans. Forget the confession. They need to rid themselves of their prisoner, and leave no evidence. Obrecht comes at Peter with a pillow.

Chase says Nelle turned him in, but he can’t deny that he believed in her innocence. He would have done anything to prove it, but he didn’t get the chance. She asks if he really expects her to fall for this. He asks why it’s hard for her to believe someone loves her. He’s loved her since the first moment he laid eyes on her, and he’s thinking he always will.

Carly asks Sonny whose idea it was to move up the wedding, and Sonny says it’s Michael’s plan. She hopes he knows what he’s doing. Sonny does too, and asks how she is. She says, as well as can be expected. He asks how the session went, and she says they talked about Morgan, and how his death shaped everything that came after. She didn’t realize how her guilt affected things; it was her part in what happened. Sonny says their part. She says Morgan had been fine, but spent his last couple of days dealing with his bipolar disease. It was his choice, and they wanted to have faith in him, but knew something was off. If they’d trusted their instincts as parents, their son might still be there. Sonny holds her.

Nina says Obrecht is insane. She can’t kill him. Obrecht says, a life for life sounds good.

Sam shows Curtis the shoes on a website called Sesso Sesso. He says whoever has Peter is a female, and they’re going to find out who it is. Sam has a feeling they know them, and Curtis says he does too. Jason comes in and asks to talk to Sam. Curtis wonders who the kidnapper is.

Nina tells Obrecht not to try that again. Obrecht says, or what? Nina says she doesn’t want to know. The police could be there any minute; they have to hide him. Obrecht wonders where, sine the entire city must be on alert. Nina says Obrecht is going to listen to her now. She’s not killing him. Obrecht says, from where she’s standing, she has no other perspective.

Finn calls Anna, and leaves a message. He knows she’s busy, but it’s important. It’s about her son.

Jason wants to talk to Sam about Michael. A courier arrives, gives her an envelope, and she sets it down. Jason tells her that Michael is considering doing something dangerous, and told him not to interfere. She asks if it’s for his kid, and says, as a parent, it’s his right to take chances. Jason should understand. He’d take any risk for his kids, and no one could stop him, but she gets it. To him, Michael is one of his kids. He says he can’t stand by watch and watch it happen.

Chase understands Nelle acting impulsively to save herself, but Michael isn’t the man for her. Just because they share a child doesn’t mean they should rush into marriage. It would be the worst thing for her and the baby. Michael appears, and tells Chase to get away from Nelle. He asks if Nelle is okay, and she says, now that he’s there. Before he leaves, Chase asks if this is for her or the baby. Nelle thanks Michael for showing up. Chase was dredging up the past, and he’s delusional. Michael says that’s one more reason to get married tomorrow. He talked to Ned, who will be glad to officiate. Nelle has some things to do, but Michael says he has one more thing discuss.

Carly says they can’t let Morgan’s death be for nothing. They need to learn from their mistakes, and trust their gut. Sonny says, and protect their kids no matter what. He tells her that they’ll survive this like they’ve survived everything else. Carly knows they will.

Nelle asks Michael if there’s something wrong. He says he just wants the business stuff out of the way before the wedding. He wants her to sign a prenuptial agreement, and asks if she has a problem with that.

Sam tells Jason that Michael grew into a man, who learned from him how protect the people he loves, no matter what the cost. It’s hard to stand back. Jason says he doesn’t know if he’s strong enough, and Sam reminds him that he told her, sometimes we have to force ourselves to do what we don’t want to. She says, speaking of things she doesn’t want to do, and picks up the envelope. She tells him it’s the divorce papers. Her marriage is officially over.

Tomorrow, Nelle wants to talk to a lawyer, Chase wants to talk to Finn about their father, and Peter tells Obrecht to choose between revenge and freedom.

The Haves and The Have Nots

Benny is arrested for robbery and attempted murder. Hanna says they’ll figure it out. Benny struggles, insisting he didn’t do it. One of the officers asks if there’s anything in his pockets, and another one pulls out stacks of cash. Benny says he borrowed it. As he’s put in the car, Hanna says she’ll call a lawyer.

Hanna tells Candace every time she comes around this is what happens. Candace asks why they arrested Benny, but Hanna says, don’t worry about it. Candace wants to help, and Hanna asks, like she helped with Quincy or helped with the drugs and the car? Candace says Benny is her brother, and Hanna asks if she knows that. Candace tells Hanna she just wants the money, but Hanna isn’t letting her near it. She’ll give it to the FBI first. Candace says, no crime was committed, and Hanna tells her to move out of the way; she’s not getting a damn thing. Candace tells Hanna not to make her show how evil she can be, but Hanna says she sees it all the time. Candace asks if she wouldn’t rather own her house. Hanna says she works for what she owns, and Candace says, she does too, but Hanna doesn’t think selling ass is a job. Candace says if Hanna doesn’t give her the money, she’ll make her. Hanna would like to see her do that. Candace says, okay, like I say okay sometimes, when it really means, just try it and see what happens.

Erica asks David if everything is okay. She leads him to the bathroom where there’s a bubble bath with rose petals in it. She made him a bath and there’s champagne. He says it’s early, but she says they’re mimosas and have orange juice in them. They get in the tub. Erica wants him to relax; no thinking about crazy exes or burning cars, and no talking about it either. He has to tell her one thing though. He needs her to be careful. Things are different now; he raised the bar. She asks what he did, and he says he hit Veronica; it just happened. He went over to tell her to stop with Jeffrey, and she wouldn’t listen. She started pushing and slapping him, and he lost it. Erica says, it’s okay, but he says, it isn’t. Erica says he needs to forgive himself. David says for all those years, Veronica was his wife and he protected her. Last night, he hit her. Erica says she pushed him, and he’s only human. He says it wasn’t him, and he can’t believe he did it. She wishes her ex hadn’t abused her, but this is different. Veronica abused him; she broke the window in his house, and set his car on fire. She tells him to forgive himself. He asks if she can forgive him, but she says he doesn’t need her to; it’s okay. He’s safe there, and she loves him. He loves her too. They get busy in the tub.

On the phone, Veronica says she’s tracking it. It has the address, and she’ll meet them there. Her doorbell rings. Dude asks why she summoned him, and she gives him a picture, saying it’s his target. He says he’s got it, and hands it back. Veronica wants her too, and he’s also got that. He asks where his money is, and she says he’ll get it when it’s done. He says he’s not a rookie. She says, he hit me, and she’s on that roll again. Dude says he’s got her, but needs something. She throws some stacks of money at him, because apparently, this is how people keep money around the house in Savannah. He says it will get it done. She tells him don’t call, and don’t text; she’ll reach out to him. He says, nice house, and she tells him to put it out of his memory. He’s never going to see it again. He says she’s still cold blooded, and she says he’d better know it. He asks how she wants it done, and she says, big, with big explosions; now get out. He finds the dark side of her attractive, and she asks what would she do with his broke ass?

After dude leaves, Veronica’s phone rings. It’s RJ, who asks how she is. She says, fine; bye. He wants to see her again, but she isn’t in the mood to be a sugar momma. She tells him to find someone else, and ends the call.

At the Artisian, Gia says RJ must really like Candace. He says he’d like to hit that. He knows she gives Gia a hard time, but she can learn a lot. Gia tells him that Candace beat Rocky’s ass with a golf club because he crossed her up. He says maybe Rocky shouldn’t have done it. Gia says he does have it bad. He tells her he’s going to make enough money to go to LA. He’s going to be a huge star, so she should get his autograph before it’s too late. Gia says she had big dreams too, but she’s still in Savannah. RJ says he’s not her, and she says he’s right. A bandaged-up Rocky asks to see RJ. RJ meets him in the back, and asks if he really crossed Candace up. Rocky asks if he knows anything, and RJ says he’s Team Rocky not Team Candace. Rocky says, don’t worry; she’s going to be taken care of. He knows RJ likes her, but she’s not what he thinks she is.

RJ calls Candace and says, you got dude real bad. She tells him to speak proper English, and he asks what happened with Rocky. Candace tells him that he doesn’t want to mess with her. Crazy as she is, she needs him and Gia, and they can get enough to get out. RJ says he’s in. Candace says a convention is coming in town, and they need to run them hard. She also needs to find some muscle. RJ wonders for who, and she says, her mother for one; call them now.

Sarah’s phone rings. It’s Jim, wanting to say hello. She says she gave him what he wanted; leave her alone. He asks what she’s wearing, and she says she’s not doing this. He asks if there’s any more evidence. He wants them left with a circumstantial case. She says he has the main, but he says he wants it all. She says the only other thing is his son. Jim says he’ll handle Wyatt. Sarah hopes he’s not going to hurt him, and Jim asks if she thinks he’s a madman. (Actually, yes.) She says no, and he tells her if she did, he’d have to start demanding things. She mentions the whore in the bar, and tells Jim that she’s an undercover informant, trying to uncover information on him and Candace. There’s a prostitution ring at the hotel, and the bartenders and manager are in on it. They think he might be too. That’s all she has. Jim calls her a good little girl, and thanks her. When the call is over, Jim says, son-of-a-bitch. He has something to do with a prostitution ring.

Jeffrey asks for drink at the hotel bar. RJ thinks they met in jail, but Jeffrey doesn’t remember him. RJ says it must have been someone else. He calls Gia, saying, nice shoes, nice watch, nice money. Gia says she saw it, and approaches Jeffrey. She tells him that she loves his shirt, and runs her hand down his sleeve. She asks if he’s checking in and if it’s his first time. Jeffrey says he stays there a lot, and she introduces herself. When she gets no response, she says, and his name is…? Jeffrey says, gay, and I laugh. Gia says nice to meet him, but he says, no. Gay as in meaning he’s not interested. She says, a girl can hope. She wanders off, and RJ tells Jeffrey, sorry; she always wants to flirt. Jeffrey says she’s a hooker, and RJ hopes he’s not interested; a married man like him. Jeffrey says he’s not married; he’s gay RJ says he thought so. He kind of has radar. Jeffrey asks if RJ is gay, and RJ says he is. He thinks Jeffrey is cute, and asks if he’s seeing somebody. Jeffrey asks if he’s flirting, and RJ says, yes. Jeffrey is flattered, but in no mood. RJ offers to do all the work, but Jeffrey repeats he’s not interested. RJ says, yet, and gets him another drink.

Jim approaches Gia. She says she’s glad to see him. He tells her that he has a room.

Wyatt needs a fix, but the nurse says they can’t do that there. He wants to get out, but she says they can’t do that either. She says she’ll get the doctor, and Justin walks in as she walks out. Wyatt says he’s not supposed to be there, but he just wants to talk. Wyatt has nothing to say, and Justin says, since he’s all tied up (BA-DUM-CHH!), he’s going to listen. Wyatt yells for the nurse, and Justin says he can scream all he wants, but they don’t like him that much. Justin tells Wyatt that he has a belt. He can tie it up, so Wyatt can hang himself. He’s just there to assist him. Wyatt tells him to get the eff out. Justin says he has heroin, but Wyatt says he’s not doing that. Justin says, no junkie can refuse it. Wyatt is keeping Jeffrey from him. Wyatt says he’s not gay, and Justin says, neither is he. Wyatt calls him a sick son-of-a-bitch (phrase of the night). Justin says Jeffrey loves Wyatt. He tries to hide it, but Justin knows it. He can see Wyatt wants the heroin; he’s starting to sweat. He has it bad. Justin can see it all over his body. Wyatt stares at the baggie in Justin’s hand. Justin says he can’t resist, and Wyatt tells him to put it away. Justin says he can just slip it into his arm, and Wyatt says, I’m wearing a straitjacket, dumbass. Justin says he’s actually pretty good, and can use another spot. Justin pulls out some works, and says he’ll just cook it up here. Wyatt tells him to put it away, but Justin says he needs it. He can’t just kick on his ow

Justin wonders what Wyatt has that he doesn’t. He touches Wyatt, and says, nice, but he’s got Wyatt beat. Wyatt tells him to get the hell out. Justin says the heroin is coming with him, which is fine with Wyatt. Justin suggests he take it, and Wyatt asks, why? So Justin can kill him? Justin says, no; so Wyatt can feel better. Justin puts some heroin in the spoon and heats it with a lighter. The nurse walks in and says he’s not supposed to be there this long. Here’s a clue – the heroin wasn’t supposed to be there at all. Wyatt says Justin is a friend of his, and they were just talking. The nurse is like, no, and Justin saunters out.

I have finally found a hospital more lax than the one on General Hospital.

Jim sees Oscar, and tells Gia go to his room. He asks Oscar where his damn money is, but Oscar doesn’t have it yet. He says he’s sorry, and Jim says, stop telling him that and get the money. Oscar says he will as soon as he finds Candace. Jim asks what happened to his head, and Oscar says, long story. Jim wants to know how much David told him, and who his sources are. Oscar says he has his ways, and Jim hopes he was told Jim is a real son-of-a-bitch when he’s wronged. He tells Oscar there are things worse than death, and Oscar says he doesn’t like being threatened. Jim gets knocks Oscar up against the wall, and gets his head in a viselike grip. He bets Oscar doesn’t like this. He’s running out of time. Oscar needs to find the bitch, the money, and the time to leave. Oscar pushes Jim away, and says he’ll find the damn money.

Jim goes to his room, and says he missed Gia terribly. She says she’s here now, and Jim says, yes, she is. First things first, he wants to know everything she knows about Candace, and everything Candace told her. She doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He tells her that she’ll see how badly it goes for her if she plays games. He knows she’s a DA informant; they can start there. What has she told them? She says, nothing; she hasn’t said anything. He asks if she’s been wearing a wire, and she says he saw her naked. He wonders why not? She says she was supposed to get him to relax, then start to wear one. He believes it, and thinks it might actually be a good thing he can use. Gia says she doesn’t want to go deeper, but Jim says it’s way too late. She says she has to leave; she can’t do this. He says she’s not leaving until he’s done with her. They have a new arrangement; no more cash on the dresser. He tells her to take off her clothes. She begs, but he grabs her, and pushes her onto the bed.

Hanna waits at the station. Kathryn comes out, and Hanna asks what she’s doing there. She says she had to take care of some things. Hanna tells her that Benny was arrested for the thing she told Kathryn about. She called Marty while she was driving there, and he said he was on his way. She knows he didn’t do it. Kathryn says Marty will get him out and get him off. Hanna hopes so. She thanks Kathryn, who has to go, and talks to the desk sergeant.

Kathryn cries in the car. Like a heart-wrenching cry. I want to cry watching her. If she cries much longer, I’ll be sobbing uncontrollably over my keyboard.

RJ gives Jeffrey another drink on him. Jeffrey asks if he does this for everyone, but RJ says just the ones he likes. He thinks Jeffrey is cute, and asks if Jeffrey thinks he is. Jeffrey says, just a little. He thinks RJ is pushy, but RJ says he goes after what he wants. He suggests they talk about it in his room, but Jeffrey doesn’t think so. RJ tells him to bill the drinks to his room, he’ll get the number, and go up on his break. Jeffrey is all, no, and leaves to sit at a table.

Candace calls RJ, and asks if he’s seen Oscar. They make plans to meet later. She tells him she’s coming through the lobby. He asks if she’s sure she wants to do this, and she tells him, don’t question her. He needs to know their next move. She asks if anyone is watching, and he says, no. She crosses the lobby.

Candace’s elevator door opens, and Oscar jumps in. He knocks her all around the cab, and drags her out. On his floor, I presume. He passes some guests and say she had too many shots. He brings her into his room, and throws her on the couch. He asks her where the money is, and slaps her. He keeps asking, but turns around for moment. When his back is to Candace, she pushes him out the window. I gasp. Wow. That was quite a little scene.

Next time, Kathryn tells Hanna that Wyatt shot Uncle Vinnie, Wyatt tells Kathryn that he hates her and Jim, and Veronica tries to get Melissa from Hanna’s house.

Below Deck Mediterranean

Josh hassles Adam about getting some food. Hannah tells him that they were waiting on the last guest, and Adam wonders why he has a guest is in the galley. He’d thought they were communicating. Dinner is finally served, and Adam comes upstairs to explain the dishes. He had me at crispy leeks. Josh pronounces it Michelin Star food. Hanna tells Adam again that the last guest wasn’t seated. He tells her if there’s a next time, asks the primary if they should start serving.

João wants to upgrade his position. In her interview, Captain Sandy says she sees how hard João has been working, which makes her love him. This annoys Conrad, who says he’s been working his own ass off.

Kasey finds some animal masks on a guest’s bed, and shows Jamie. Jamie puts on the unicorn mask. In her interview, Kasey wonders what role playing in the bedroom is like. Snort-snort.

The guests proclaim dinner incredible, and move to the Jacuzzi. Some animal masks appear, and I don’t want to know. Josh tries to flirt with Kasey. Brooke asks if Conrad is thinking about a future with Hannah. Conrad says he likes her, and it would be nice to see her away from the boat. In his interview, Conrad says the boat is an environment where everything is heightened, and there’s no escape. You want to find a rock, and Hannah surprised him. Everyone finally turns in.

Adam pops breakfast buns in oven, and makes breakfast sandwiches that look like they’re to die for. He shows Kasey how to serve with several plates on her arm. The guests are impressed with the breakfast sandwiches. Colin tells Brooke if he could rearrange the alphabet, he’d put U and I together. Everybody goes, aww. Not really.

The yacht shoves off to Capri, and anchor is dropped in a new area. Kasey, Jamie, and Colin are setting up lunch on shore. Adam gets testy because the food should have been in the fridge. Hannah doesn’t think it’s a big deal, and tells him just put it in until she asks for it. Conrad drops the others off at the pier.

Hannah tells Brooke that in her eight years of yachting, she’s never been on the boat on her birthday. She thinks the decorations they have are tacky. In her interview, Brooke feels tension coming from Hannah, because she likes João. She wants to show Hannah that she cares about their friendship, and even though it’s not Hannah’s birthday until the fall, she promises to plan something special.

Colin tells us there are no mountains on Long Island, so he’s thrilled that lunch is at the top of one. The view is spectacular. Coming over in the tender, Josh says the girls look like Jackie O. Conrad welcomes them to Capri. The food is delivered. Everything and everyone has to go up in these little cars like a ski lift. At the yacht, João gets jet skis out. In her interview, Captain Sandy says he has a great attitude and he never stops

The guests are literally in the clouds, and more than thrilled. Hannah says they’re crying; it’s a good sign. Josh toasts to good friends and an amazing trip. Conrad asks Hannah about a second date, saying could do something like this. Colin thinks João should ask Kasey out. João he doesn’t want to be with anyone, but gets drunk and flirty. He doesn’t want a relationship, but likes the attention.

The guests go into town. Hannah and Conrad take a selfie and kiss. In her interview, Hannah says Conrad has a softness and vulnerability. She’s developing genuine feelings, so it’s confusing. Brooke talks to Adam about Hannah’s birthday. Adam says Hannah makes him nuts, but they have fun together. The guests return to the yacht.

Adam says the picnic isn’t as glam as he likes it on the boat, so he’s doing up dinner. A lot of amore, but not too spicy. Giant swells start to come up, and the captain says it’s getting rough. Two of the guests gets sick. Captain Sandy says it doesn’t look good, which isn’t something you want to hear from your captain. She decides to slowly cruise back to Naples. Kasey gets sick, but rallies. The captain explains they’re going to the mainland where they’ll be protected by the mountains. I note there are tiny white lights throughout the centerpiece, and the sick guests show up anyway. I would too, even if I had to crawl. Hannah tells Adam the sick guests requested chicken soup. In his interview, Adam says they just went over it. We flash back to him telling Hannah if it’s not requested in advance, it won’t be made. He says had he known there were sick guests, he’d have prepped something more effective, like with ginger. Chicken soup isn’t going to cure their seasickness. Adam likes a lot of control, but my take is that the guests are supposed to get whatever they want, whenever they want.

Captain Sandy says it’s getting calmer as they head inland. I’m pretty sure I’d eat this dinner, even if I thought it was going to return later. Hannah asks the captain if she wants to eat. Captain Sandy says she can’t now, and Hannah goes to put it in the fridge. The captain changes her mind, and tells Conrad to bring it anyway. Hannah doesn’t understand why they’re even having service in this weather. Captain Sandy grows impatient waiting for Conrad. She says it’s frustrating, and he looks like an idiot. She calls him to the bridge, and finally goes downstairs herself. She tells Conrad, who is talking with Hannah, that when she calls him, don’t stop to have a chat. She goes to get her own food.

Josh says this is the yachting life; at the mercy of the sea. The captain is like, wtf? with Conrad, and says he’s obviously lost focus on his primary role as a crew member. Adam sets some pasta on fire. The entree is saffron risotto lobster, and I’m in. Anchor is dropped in Naples. Conrad tells Hannah that the captain wants him to set up the slide at 7 am, and bring it back up at 10:30. He doesn’t understand the logic. The guests take their unicorn mask and go to bed.

It’s the last day of charter. Josh says it doesn’t suck, and asks for a breakfast sandwich again. Jamie asks Colin how long he’s had the feels for Brooke, but he insists he doesn’t. She asks why he doesn’t want to talk, and he says it’s 8:30. He doesn’t like talking until half past ten. I’m with him there. Hannah tells Kasey that she’s having a fake birthday dock party. Kasey thinks Brooke is kissing ass.

Captain Sandy is irritated with pretty much anything Conrad does or says. Brooke tells João about doing the dock barbecue. Anchor is pulled up. Conrad tells Hannah about the captain almost biting his head off. Captain Sandy sees some stuff that should have been done, and tells Conrad he has to make them a priority. Conrad doesn’t understand what her problem is.

The crew changes into their whites. None of the guests are happy about leaving. Josh says it was bucket list beyond, the food was incredible, and the staff made the trip. He hopes to do it again. Conrad tells Captain Sandy that he thinks there’s been a shift in communication and the way they work together. She says it’s the Hannah thing that annoys her. In her interview, she says Conrad has to figure out who he is, the bosun or Hannah’s boy, and pick one. Whoa.

There’s a fake birthday party committee meeting. Adam doesn’t know what Hannah likes, other than wine and cigarettes. Hannah tells Conrad that if the captain doesn’t want the bosun communicating with the chief strew, fine; they won’t talk. In her interview, Hannah says they’ll see how smoothly the boat runs when they don’t talk.

At the tip meeting, Captain Sandy confuses me with that euro thing again, but it’s $1080 a person. Even she thinks it’s not as heavy as it should be, but tells them not to take it personally. She commends João for his hard work. She says they have to turn the boat around, but they’ll have time off tomorrow. She scored a day at the beach club for them. In her interview, Kasey says she’s gotten through the wrath of Hannah and seasickness. João calls some friends who are just outside the port, and invites them to Hannah’s party, saying, a fake birthday for fake person. Jamie says Conrad’s mind has evacuated the premises.

Adam, Brooke, and Conrad go into town to get decorations. Adam talks Conrad into getting Hannah a pair of Crocs because she hates them. In the crew mess, João tells Colin the beer tastes like bad decisions coming. Everyone gets dressed, and Kasey announces that Hannah is, thirty, flirty and thriving. Colin thinks he has a good connection with Brooke, but he’s the worst at reading girls, and isn’t sure if he’s stuck in the friend zone. Yep, he’s the worst. Everyone gathers on the deck, along with a stray cat. Adam barbecues, and Hannah declares it the best birthday ever. Brooke tells João’s friend that João is a nice guy, but acts like a bit of a d*ck. She finds it amusing. João thinks the penny dropped, and he knows what he wants. It’s Kasey, and Brooke looks bummed.

Conrad gives Hannah the Crocs, and says it was his idea not Adam’s. Hannah thinks thirty is the age where you stop loving birthdays. She freaks over the pink Crocs, puts them on for a second, and throws them into the water. It’s time for several cakes. Hannah and Conrad have a cake fight, and chase around. They kiss at the top of a bridge. Adam says it was anti-climactic, and everyone boos. Brooke tells Adam it’s a love triangle. João says he’s happy for once, but he’s probably just drunk. Conrad says it was his first food fight. Believe it or not, I’ve never had a food fight. Or been in a bar fight. And I’ve been in some pretty dicey bars. Brooke asks how João is doing. Adam says it was a proper dock party. Brooke tells João they have blatant chemistry. In her interview, she says she doesn’t want any regrets. She asks him how he feels, and he kisses her. What I feel is that he’s a d-bag. Colin is like, whaaat? Kasey calls bullsh*t.

Next time, Hannah tells Brooke to stay away, Jamie gets very sick, primary horrible guest Kenny returns, João cries, and Hannah pours her heart out to Captain Sandy.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Maxie brings James home, accompanied by Obrecht and Nina. She stalls at the doorway, saying she and Nathan dreamed of this moment, now she can’t get her feet to move. Nina says they all dreamed of a different homecoming, and Obrecht says they must be strong for the little one. Nathan is alive in James’s smile and eyes full of love, and the heartbeat next to Maxie’s. To welcome him home, they have to enter his home. Maxie walks in, and welcomes him to the place his father was most alive.

At the hospital, Michael suggests he and Nelle get married today. Kim is ready for Nelle’s appointment, and Michael says it’s the homestretch. Any day now their little family will be complete.

Chase meets Finn at The Floating Rib. He’s surprised that Finn invited him. Finn says Chase keeps saying they should get together, and get to know each other, and here they are. Let the bonding begin.

Griff asks how Kiki is holding up. She says, better, since he agreed not to tell Alexis about them sleeping together. Griff isn’t totally convinced Alexis doesn’t need to know.

Scotty has news about Kiki and Griff, and tells Ava to brace herself. He didn’t see it coming. She says she already knows what he’s going to tell her.

Julian gives Sonny some espresso on the house. Sonny asks why he’s being generous. Julian says he wants to keep his supplier happy. He might be doubling his order in the next couple of months. He tells Sonny that business is good, and he’s been thinking about expanding. He wants to rip the building down to its foundation, and build something new. He says, enjoy the coffee, and steps away. Jason asks Sonny, once demolition starts, how long before they find the body?

Maxie shows James his daddy’s favorite place on the couch, and tells him about baseball. His daddy taught her, and she’ll teach him. Obrecht says she never got to feed Nathan, and asks to hold James. She cries, saying she’s his oma, and kisses his forehead.

Finn ask if Chase read The Severed Branch, thinking it might give Chase some insight into finding Peter. He asks if there’s been any sign, but Chase says it’s an ongoing investigation. Finn knows it’s been hard on Anna. She just found her son, and now he’s disappeared. Chase says, considering her connections, he thinks there are people higher up on the food chain keeping her posted. He asks if that’s why Finn asked to meet him, but Finn says he was just making conversation. The reason he wanted to see Chase was to give him a birthday present. Chase can’t believe it.

Sonny tells Julian the place looks great. Why go through the hassle of expansion? Julian says he’s not touching this room, but wants to make use of the back storerooms. People have requested private events. Sonny says it’s messy, and takes a long time; it could hurt business. Julian isn’t worried. He tends to another customer, and Jason says, the back room and patio; not good. The bigger the project, the bigger the chance the body is uncovered.

Ava tells Scotty to save the dramatics; Franco told her about the picture David has. Scotty flashes back to listening in on Kiki and Griff in the park. Ava says it’s David who’s on trial, not Kiki; it’s irrelevant. Scotty says he’s David’s attorney; he has to call out the behavior in question. Ava asks why drag in a third person? She doesn’t want him trying to blame the victim. Scotty says, as a defense attorney, he has to act like one. He’s legally obligated to bring forth evidence that the client gives – all of it.

Griff tells Kiki that he can’t promise to commit perjury. David comes by and says hello. Kiki says he’s not supposed to be talking to her, but he claims he’s just being polite, and pretty much calls her a peon. He says he needs to talk to Griff about a consult. Kiki leaves to shadow another doctor. Griff asks if it was necessary to humiliate her. David says any humiliation, like her allegations, is all of her own making.

Maxie tells James about the nursery and the blanket Nathan had sent. When she takes him into the other room, Nina tells Obrecht that she said beautiful things. Does she have more compassion? Will she give Peter more antibiotics? Obrecht asks if Nina is feeling sorry for him. She says she doesn’t want him to die, and Obrecht asks, what about Maxie? Nina says she doesn’t want him to die either. Obrecht points out how much Maxie misses Nathan, but Nina tells her, please don’t let it happen. She doesn’t don’t want him to die by their hands. Obrecht reluctantly leaves.

Maxie comes back, and tells Nina changing a boy is different than changing a girl. Nina says you have to act quick. Nina says Maxie should sleep when the baby sleeps, so she’s leaving. Maxie thanks her for everything. She didn’t know how she would make it through today without Nathan, but Nina and Obrecht stepped up for her. When she looks at James, she sees how much she has to be grateful for. Nina asks if she’s not bitter about Peter, and Maxie says it took a lot not to let darkness in. Nina asks how she’d feel if Peter died. Maxie says, a week ago, she’d throw a party, but realized she doesn’t want him to die. Nina says, even after what he took from her? Maxie says he made terrible choices that had terrible consequences, but he was also her friend. She’s calling him Peter, not Henrik, on purpose because she wants to believe he wanted to reinvent himself and start over. She thinks Nathan would have wanted it for him. He always saw the best in people. It’s his legacy, and she’s going to honor that and pass it to his son.

Wyatt is still working on untying Peter, who tells him to hurry. Wyatt says he’s still working on the badge. They hear Obrecht singing, and Peter tells Wyatt take the bugle and hide. Wyatt puts Peter’s gag back in, and hides under the bed. Obrecht comes in, and tells Peter that she held her grandson for the first time. It was a miracle. He’ll be growing up without a father because of Peter. She takes the gag out, and he asks how the baby is. She says if he cares, he’ll confess. Peter says, then she’ll kill him. She says now that she’s held the baby, the confession isn’t as important, but getting rid of him is. She needs solitude to contemplate her next step, and has to take some time to ponder his fate. She leaves, and Wyatt comes out. Peter tells him to go get help, and take Obrecht’s notebook. It might help people believe him. He tells Wyatt not to let Obrecht see him. Wyatt grabs the notebook, and jets.

Ava reminds Scotty that he’s supposed to throw David’s case. He says she’s put him in a precarious position; she has no idea. She says she wouldn’t be paying him a fortune if he wasn’t. Kiki is a victim, and now he’s going to shame and humiliate her in court? Scotty is sorry, and as a father, whatever he does will be as gently and with as little damage as possible. Ava leaves to check on Kiki.

Nelle and Michael come into The Floating Rib. Nelle is happy they’re getting married before the baby comes. Michael asks, why wait? They have a license. He can find a judge, and they can get married immediately. Nelle thought he didn’t want a justice of the peace, and wonders why they can’t have a real wedding. Michael says, because of him, and looks at Chase. He wants to get married as soon as possible to get rid of him.

Wyatt runs into the art therapy room. Franco asks him if he knows they don’t have a session today. Wyatt starts to babble, saying he went hiking and took the wrong trail. Franco suggests they take a breath together. They do, and Wyatt says he found a man tied up in cabin.

Obrecht returns to the cabin. She tells Peter that she’s realized he’s more trouble than he’s worth. The stroll she took cleared her head, and she thinks it’s better to cut her losses, so to speak. Peter takes this as meaning she’s going to kill him, and says she’ll get caught, sent to prison, and never see her grandson again. She sees the bugle and asks how it got there.

Maxie thanks Nina for today. Nina say Maxie is going through a lot, but coming through it like a champ. Maxie tells Nina that she and James love her. Nina loves them too.

Sonny tells Julian that he’ll make him an offer; buy him out. He can go bigger and nicer without the mess of construction. Julian says Jim made him an offer, and he wasn’t interested then or now. Sonny says he might run into trouble, and Julian says he’ll take his chances. Sonny tells him, the offer is on the table; think about it. He and Jason leave. Scotty tells Julian, when Sonny makes an offer, he usually thinks it’s a done deal. Julian says the building is his, so too bad. Scotty likes the way he thinks.

Outside, Sonny makes some calls.

Nelle tells Michael that Chase means nothing, but he says Chase means something to him. The sooner they can shove their marriage certificate in his face, the better. Nelle says they have no venue, she has no dress, and she’d like his family there to celebrate them starting their lives together. Michael wants that too, but doesn’t want to wait. Nelle has an idea. She gets up and goes to the bar. Michael and Chase exchange glances.

Chase can’t believe it. Two tickets to a double-header in Boston, including a hotel. He says it’s also the weekend that his parents will be in town. What’s not to love? Finn says he knew Chase loves the Sox, got them from a well-connected patient, and had no idea his parents would be visiting. Chase asks if he conveniently forgot, and Finn says he was just trying to do something special. Maybe can get another ticket, and the three of them can go. Chase says, in Boston instead of Port Charles. Finn claims he doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking about them, but Chase says their father said he ran into Finn in Berkeley, and he couldn’t get away fast enough. He wonders if it’s another way for Finn to avoid their father. It’s the nicest gift he’s ever had to turn down. Finn says, sorry it didn’t work out, tells Chase to have a nice birthday, and leaves.

Nelle comes back to the table, telling Michael that she talked to Olivia. She’s willing to close the restaurant, so they can get married there. She tells him to call a judge and his family – they’re getting married tomorrow. Michael jumps up like he’s Tom Cruise on Oprah, and says he can’t believe she pulled it together. He’s eager, and looking forward to, putting the past behind them, and focusing on the future.

Julian asks Scotty where he should start with the building project. Scotty tells him to get an architect first. Make sure everything checks out, and that he gets all the permits. Julian says it sounds like he’ll need an attorney, and Scotty says he can shoehorn Julian into his business schedule. Julian says, let’s get started.

Jason tells Sonny that Julian will need a permit and an inspection before he can make a move to begin demolition. Sonny says he can stall it, but not indefinitely. Sonny wants to have one more conversation with Mike to see if he can find out where the body is stashed. Felix comes running down the stairs, and tells Sonny there’s a problem with his father.

At the hospital, Ava finds Griff, who says it’s an unexpected surprise. She thought they should talk; she heard about the picture. Griff says, one friend comforting another on a bad day. She needs to look into his eyes to remember he’d never betray her. Kiki joins them, obviously upset. Ava asks her what’s wrong, and she says David is out to destroy her. She was supposed to shadow with Dr. Harper, but he had reservations about her demands. Ava says there must be another doctor (seriously, don’t they have any female doctors?), but Kiki says even if there’s someone else, David will still keep trying to sabotage her until he runs her out of the hospital. Maybe she should drop the lawsuit.

Obrecht asks Peter again where the bugle came from, and threatens to make him talk. Nina arrives, and says it’s hers.

Franco tells Wyatt that he doesn’t need to tell him a big story. Wyatt says, it’s not a story. The man said he was sick. He begs Franco, saying they have to try.

Nina tells Obrecht that she brought the bugle, and put it under the bed to keep it out of the way. Obrecht asks why, and Nina says it reminds her of summer camp; everyone had to play the bugle. I’ve never heard of that, although everyone in the fourth grade at my elementary school had to play a song flute. You could hear them throughout my neighborhood on warm nights. But I digress… Nina says she thought it could help them to warn each other in case they see someone suspicious, since there are a lot of camps in the area. They have a stressed-out hostage, and the bugle calms her. Obrecht hands her the bugle, and says, by all means. Nina tries to play it, and to her credit, she’s barely worse than Wyatt, but Obrecht says, enough

Wyatt tells Franco the guy is tied up to a bed, and Franco says, adults can be complicated. Wyatt says he’s not stupid, and he’s not making it up. Franco asks where the guy is exactly, and tells him to draw it.

Obrecht returns to the cabin, and Nina says Peter’s fever is spiking; the infection must be flaring up. Obrecht picks something up, and Nina tells her, put the hatchet away. I laugh. Obrecht says she can’t wait until the sequel is completed, and she doesn’t have to mollycoddle Peter. She wonders where her notebook is, and Peter cries out. Nina says, he’s practically delirious, and Obrecht says, fine. She’ll procure more antibiotics. She suggests Nina serenade their guest with more hideous bugle playing. When she’s gone, Peter asks Nina why she covered for him.

Max watches a Yankee game with James.

Sonny asks Felix what’s wrong with Mike, and Felix says he’s agitated, like he’s been thrown off his routine. Sonny says they’d been talking about old times; he thought it was supposed to help. Felix says Mike might be putting too much pressure on himself to remember things. He kept saying that he didn’t want to let Sonny down. Sonny says he’ll go see him, but Felix says he just calmed down. He’s going to do a puzzle with him. Perhaps quiet will help. He tells Sonny not to think he did anything wrong; the disease effects everyone differently. Felix goes back upstairs, and Sonny tells Jason that he’s going to have one more talk with Mike. They’ll find out tonight.

Ava says David has no right to treat Kiki that way. She tells Kiki not to drop the lawsuit. They’ll see who the liar is in court.

Peter tells Nina that he thought Obrecht was going to kill him. Nina says, that’s not what Maxie wants, and he asks if she knows he’s there. Nina says, no. She’s wrapped up in the baby, and as much as she hates it, Peter was Maxie’s friend, and was there for her when she needed someone the most. He tells Nina to let him go before her crazy aunt kills him.

Obrecht sneaks around the hospital. She cuts herself, and asks David for assistance.

Franco says Wyatt’s picture looks scary there, and he says it’s when the bad guy came back. Wyatt has drawn a looming shadowlike figure, and Franco asks what the bad guy looked like. Wyatt says it was a lady, but he couldn’t see her. She was really mad and talked funny. Franco says he thought Wyatt said she was scary, and Wyatt says, not funny like ha-ha, but funny like his friend’s mom, who comes from another country.

David gives Obrecht some medication, and she says, you can’t be too careful about infection.

Wyatt tells Franco that the man makes her angry, and she wants to hurt him. He’s lucky he hid under the bed. He says the man is in trouble. He’s tied up, and they’re the only ones who can help him. Franco says, she had an accent; anything else? Wyatt says he couldn’t see her face, but he saw her shoes. He draws them.

Finn asks what the hell Obrecht is doing at the hospital.

Ava tells Kiki she can do this. She’s not alone. Ava is by her side, and Griff is there for the day to day. She’ll always have a friendly face to see. Kiki wonders if there’s any way she can salvage the shadow position, and leaves to find out. Griff says Ava was impressive, and that she’s a good mother. She thanks him for being good to her daughter. He must be feeling pretty small right about now.

David sees Kiki in the hallway. He says he heard her new mentor isn’t in the shadow program anymore. How frustrating it must be for all her hard work to go to waste. Too bad she didn’t appreciate an opportunity when she saw it.

Sonny tells Jason that he should have stopped pushing about Croton. He doesn’t want Julian to be part of it, but his dad isn’t going to be the one to lead them to it.

Digging through an old box, Julian finds a picture of Mike and Charlie in 1983. He says, interesting.

Michael tells Nelle that he’ll track someone down to officiate. They kiss. Chase stares at them. When Michael leaves, Nelle approaches Chase. She says it looks like he was all wrong. Michael gave her a fabulous ring, and they’re getting married tomorrow. Too bad he can’t be there, but it’s family only. He can wish her congratulations now.

Michael calls Jordan. He tells her, Nelle took the bait. The wedding is on for tomorrow.

Chase tells Nelle, congratulations. She got everything she’s ever wanted. He asks if she wants the truth about her fiancé, and wants to know what’s really going to happen.

Franco thinks Wyatt should talk to Doc. As they walk down the hallway, they see Obrecht talking to Finn. Wyatt says, it’s her. She’s the villain; get her! Obrecht asks what’s wrong with that child. Franco says he recognizes her from a cabin in the woods. Wyatt says, see? She talks funny. It’s the voice he heard, and the shoes he saw. Obrecht tells them she doesn’t have the time for this nonsense, and gets in the elevator. Wyatt says they have to stop her, and Finn agrees that she’s scary. He asks what Wyatt thinks she did. Wyatt asks if Finn is her friend, and he says he hates her. Franco explains that Wyatt saw a man in a cabin in the woods. Wyatt says it was near his camp, and she’d tied the man up. Wyatt had left his bugle there, and he went back. The man says he’s sick, and they have to believe him. Finn says he does, and asks him to start at the beginning.

Peter is glad Maxie thought of him as a friend, although he knows it doesn’t mitigate anything. Nina tells him to stop talking about Maxie; she’s off-limits to him. He tells her the bugle belongs to a boy who found him, and is going to get help. Nina says just because he was found doesn’t mean anyone is coming back. He asks how long before Obrecht snaps? Free him now, and no matter what, he’ll never implicate her. There’s only one way out. Take it.

Wyatt gives Finn the notebook. He says he took it from the cabin. Finn flips through it. He says, it’s the characters from The Severed Branch, the book Peter published. Franco suggests maybe that’s what put it in the kid’s head; he likes to exaggerate. Finn says, let’s find out. Wyatt asks if Finn believes him, and Finn asks if Wyatt can tell him exactly where the cabin is.

Tomorrow, Carly talks to Doc, Michael tells Jason about the impending wedding, and Chase tells Nelle the marriage won’t work.

😎 A Deeper Thinker Than Most of Us…

The reason why these Jim Crow laws were in place have stifled my rights and your rights is because we fell asleep. We fall asleep when we’re moving ahead and we don’t look to the left and right and see that we’re not including people … Because really, at the end of the day, we only move forward when it doesn’t cost us anything. But I’m here today saying that no one and nothing can be great unless it costs you something. – Viola Davis

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny tells Jason that Carly is holding it together, even though that piece of trash couldn’t wait to tell her that she’s marrying Michael.

At the hospital, Nelle tells Michael she can’t wait to tell Kim about their engagement, since she’s one of the few who isn’t judgmental. She says maybe they could invite her to the wedding, since there won’t be many there to cheer them on. She doesn’t know what to do to break through with Carly. She thought telling her in person showed respect. Michael says she can’t keep reaching out when she knows it’s not going to work out. When comes to them, his mom isn’t ready yet.

Julian says Ava looks lost. She tells him that she’s thinking about a development in Kiki’s case. David has evidence to make it look like she’s GH’s top tramp. He has a picture of Griff and Kiki in each other’s arms.

Griff tells Kiki that he has a question about a chart. Not really; he just wants to talk privately. He tells her that she ran off before it was settled. She says, it’s settled. They’re not disclosing they slept together.

Lulu visits Maxie, and thanks Maxie for inviting her. Maxie is going crazy waiting for James to come home, and she knows Lulu must be missing Dante. She thought maybe they could help each other out, the way they used to.

Lulu says she needed this; hanging out, nowhere to be, no pressure. Maxie relates, saying she feels like she’s been running ten thousand miles an hour for a while. Maxie’s phone dings, and she tells Lulu that The Colonel is in town. She’s asked him to join them. The doorbell rings, and it’s Colonel Sanders. I’m not kidding. Apparently, he and Maxie are old friends. She introduces Lulu to him.

Peter lies on the bed in the cabin, his gag back in his mouth. Pioneer Scout Wyatt walks in, and asks Peter where his bugle is. He needs it back.

At the PCPD, Chase asks to talk to Jordan. He says he’s ready for the next step. She says assuming they get cooperation, but he thinks that shouldn’t be a problem.

Nelle explains to Michael that she wanted to show Carly that she’s committed to making him happy. Michael doesn’t want his mother to be a factor; their child should be their main focus. Nelle says Carly has been making him try to choose between them, but he says he’s at peace with his choice. He tells her not to worry about it. A nurse tells them that Kim is in delivery, and she’ll be about an hour. They decide to wait. Nelle tells Michael that she loves him, and gives him a kiss. He gets a text from Chase, asking him to come to the commissioner’s office asap. He makes up an excuse about work. Nelle was hoping for brunch, and he tells her to go ahead, giving her some money. She tells him it’s way too much, but he says nothing is too much for his bride-to-be. Plus, she’s eating for two. He leaves, and she looks skeptical.

Sonny tells Jason that Carly played it cool. You’d have thought she and Nelle were best friends. He was the one who wanted to go off on her. He told Rupert not to let her in again. Jason says he was smart to put Rupert on the payroll, but he doesn’t trust anyone at Ferncliff. He’s worried about Michael. Sonny is too; another fire he has to put out. Jason asks if something is up with the business. Sonny says, old business, that was supposed to be buried in a field in Croton.

Ava tells Julian that the picture was of Kiki and Griff hugging, not in bed. They work together. It was just a random shot; a friendly embrace. It was innocent, and not out of line. It’s foolish and destructive to be suspicious; she’s learned the hard way. Julian asks if something happened with Griff and Kiki. Ava remembers seeing them at the Nurses’ Ball. She tells Julian that she was referring to her relationship with Kiki. It’s on track, and she hates to see her hurt. Julian says David is going to blame the victim, and hire a tool to defend him. Speak of the devil.

Griff tells Kiki that he knows all about secrets; he used to hear confessions. The same way he couldn’t disclose what was said, neither can her lawyer. He says they have to be ready for being asked if they share anything more than friendship. Kiki suggests they not say anything, but Griff says he’s not going to jail for lying under oath, and neither is she.

Sonny tells Jason that one of Skully’s guys told Mike about a job he was doing, and Mike followed him to Croton. He dug up the grave, and took the body somewhere, so Sonny wouldn’t be implicated. Jason asks if Sonny is sure Mike remembers correctly, and Sonny says he knows how it is. One minute, Mike is clear, the next, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But this time, Sonny got a whole story, and the pieces fit. Jason asks where he moved it to, and Sonny says that’s the bad news. Mike was trying to protect him, and left incriminating evidence of a crime under Julian’s place of business.

Julian asks Scotty why he took the case. Scotty says he’s a defense lawyer, and he’s defending. He wants to talk to Ava, but Nelle arrives and asks Ava to have brunch with her; her treat. Julian tells Ava that he’s in the market for some artwork. Ava doesn’t think her merchandise matches his aesthetics, but he tells her that he’s doing a major renovation; and expansion.

Griff tells Kiki that Alexis is her attorney, and needs to be informed. Kiki says David harassed her, not him. Griff says she needs to walk in with nothing to hide. Telling Alexis is for her benefit. In classic soap timing, Alexis appears, and says, tell her what?

Jordan tells Chase that his plan is risky; it puts a civilian in danger. He says Michael is already in danger. He’s looked at it from all sides, and it’s the only way. Jordan asks if he’s sure he’s not too close. He says, close enough to have learned his lesson. Nelle got away with murder once; it can’t happen again. Michael joins them, and Jordan tells him nothing has been decided; it’s sill in the talking stage. He asks, about what? and she says, him. Michael asks why he’s there, and Chase says the plan involves putting him at risk. He’ll have to decide if it’s what he wants to do.

Wyatt tells Peter that the head Pioneer is going to kill him if he doesn’t find his bugle. Peter tells him it’s by the books, and fortunately, the woman holding him didn’t see it. Wyatt blows into the bugle – badly, I might add – and Peter tells him, don’t. Wyatt says he’s going, and Peter asks if he told anyone. Wyatt says, who would believe him?

As they have a KFC lunch, Maxie marvels at how crispy and easy The Colonel’s chicken is. She tells him that both she and Lulu have been crazy busy. She explains that Lulu is a reporter, and he says it’s a respected profession. Lulu says, not everyone feels that way. He tells them to enjoy what they’re doing, until they do the next thing, because he’s quite the philosopher. Maxie remarks on how much he does and how busy he is, yet he never seems stressed. Lulu asks how they know each other, and he says, it’s a whale of a tale. Lulu gets her notebook, but he wants it off the record. Just a conversation between friends. He tells them about how his secret recipe was once almost stolen when a contractor from the syndicate hacked into the mainframe. Is this the same syndicate that Sonny is from? Or maybe the Russian clinic? I’m not sure what to make of this.

Sonny tells Jason that Charlie Delaney was the original owner of the pub. He and Mike used to do some gambling. Mike knew the pub was being built, and asked Charlie for a favor. As long as no one tears up the foundation, it will be all right. Jason wonders about earthquake damage, and they decide to check it out.

Not one to turn down a free meal, Ava sits with Nelle. Julian tells Scotty he doesn’t give a damn about justice, but if there isn’t any in court with David, David will have to answer to him.

Nelle shows Ava her ring, saying once she got Carly out of the way, Michael came around. Ava congratulates her, and asks if they’ve set a date. Nelle says, not yet, but they’re hoping to be married before the baby comes. Ava says, then what? She marries Michael, gets named in the will, and takes him out kayaking?

Kiki tells Alexis that she was filling in Griff. She told him about the picture, and she’s worried they’ll both get smeared, it’s unfair, and makes her furious. Alexis agrees David’s tactics are disgusting. She asks Griff if he’s worried, and he says he’ll be fine; he’ll take the high road. Alexis asks him what the circumstances of the picture were. He tells her early on in the Shadow program, David was being harsh and unfair to Kiki; not treating her like a med student. She remained professional, removed herself from the situation, and he found her in tears. He gave her a hug to offer support. Alexis say it makes sense, and their stories match. Kiki says, of course. Why would she think they wouldn’t? Alexis has the feeling there’s something Kiki isn’t telling her.

Chase tells Michael that in asking Nelle to marry him, he’s already been put in jeopardy. When the dust settled, Chase’s career was nearly derailed, and Nelle got away with murder. Michael says he has his resources. Spinelli is a cyber genius. If there’s a trail, he’ll find it online. Chase says, in the meantime, he’s engaged to a woman who killed her last fiancé. Michael promises not to go out on the water, but Chase says Nelle is a master manipulator. She’s ruthless. He could fall in the bathroom, cut himself shaving, or OD. He can’t do it alone. She has him where she wants him, and she’s always one step ahead. He wants to turn the tables. Michael will be the one pulling her strings. Michael agrees, and asks what he has to do. Chase says he needs to die.

Scotty tells Julian he’s going to give David the best defense he’s capable of. However, even with his legal expertise – which he reminds Julian got him acquitted – he’s not as confident. Julian suggests it’s because he doesn’t have Ava doing some blackmailing, but Scotty says he doesn’t have to tell Julian what it’s like to cross Alexis.

Ava says a kayak is too obvious; Nelle will have to come up with a subtler way to be a rich widow. Nelle is surprised Ava believes the lies people have told about her. She thought they were friends. Ava says she took Nelle into her confidence, and under her wing, and Nelle repaid her with blackmail. She needs to realize that Ava will defend herself by whatever means necessary. Nelle says she would never hurt Michael; she loves him. Like Griff loves Ava. Or hasn’t he said it yet? Ava says that’s two strikes; don’t get to three. Michael is infatuated with her because she’s carrying his child. How long after the baby is born until he’ll be through with her. As for the blanket, she’ll keep it. (I missed a little of this conversation due to a dog distraction.)

Jason tells Sonny that he’ll access the basement. He asks if Mike mentioned a specific location. Sonny says Mike told him that they’d have to tear up the foundation to find it. Jason says he’ll see if everything is still intact.

Alexis asks if there’s something she needs to be made aware of. Kiki is worried about how it’s going to affect Ava. Alexis says victim shaming and blaming isn’t new. She’ll try to deflect what comes her way, but it’s not easy. Kiki says her mom isn’t perfect, but she didn’t cause the situation, and doesn’t deserve the fallout.

Wyatt tells Peter that people say he tells tall tales, so he didn’t say anything. Peter asks if he didn’t even try, and Wyatt says they’d tell him, mind your own business tattletale nerd. Peter says that’s not right, and Wyatt says they’d laugh. Peter asks if Wyatt can’t see that he’s really in trouble. He asks if the Pioneers don’t teach them to help people. Wyatt says they send socks overseas, and collect food for the hungry, but there’s no badge for a man tied to a bed.

The Colonel talks about how Maxie and Spinelli helped stop the hacker, but he had to assist them, since Spinelli didn’t know enough of the computer language. The Colonel had picked up enough to thwart the plan. Lulu wonders who kills for a chicken recipe, but The Colonel tells her, espionage of any kind can be lethal. Lulu wants to write about it, but he says he has a strict policy that the story stays off the record. He asks Maxie if she has a place to store valuables; a place no one would think to look. She shows him a book Spinelli gave her with a secret compartment. He’s afraid the syndicate isn’t done with him yet. He has to hide the secret recipe somewhere until things settle down. He says he’s trusting them both not to peek. Maxie says it’s unfair. Why can’t the syndicate leave him alone? He says, some syndicates can’t be reasoned with. He has to go because, people don’t stop eating chicken because of unscrupulous hackers. He kisses Lulu’s hand, and tells her to keep writing because, unlike recipes, some secrets need to be told. He tells them, stay crispy, and stay humble. After he leaves, Lulu says he’s the coolest person she’s ever met. I dunno about that, but it’s one of the weirdest scenes I’ve ever watched on this show. And yes, it was George Hamilton.

Nelle tells Ava that even if she deleted the photo, Ava wouldn’t believe her. She’d think Nelle saved it in the cloud or saved a copy. Ava says, insurance. The same reason she’s holding on to the blanket. Nelle still thinks of her as a friend, and says she would ask her to be maid of honor, if Josslyn hadn’t agreed already. Ava says Nelle is really sticking it to Carly. Nelle says she’d like to invite Ava to the wedding. Ava says she’ll come, but she’d better hurry before Michael changes his mind. Annoyed, Nelle tells Ava to pay for her own breakfast, and leaves. Scotty sits down, and says he has important information. She asks if it’s about Kiki’s trial, and he says, yes and no.

Sonny comes into Charlie’s. Julian says he just paid him, but Sonny claims he’s just seeing how the coffee selling. Julian says, see you next month, and Sonny says he’ll take an espresso. While Julian is getting it, Jason joins Sonny, telling him there’s nothing in the basement; no cracks. They’re in the clear for now.

Griff tells Alexis that Kiki is right. He’d hate to see Ava hurt if there’s any way to avoid it. Alexis says it’s not about Ava, and she’s tougher than they give her credit for. She tells Kiki to sit up straight, take a deep breath, get perspective, and know the picture is coming out, among other stuff. Forewarned is forearmed. She asks if they want her to tell Ava, but Kiki says they will. Alexis tells her there’s nothing worse than being left in the dark about something that affects a case.

Michael tells Chase, aside from being dangerous, it’s cruel to his family. Chase agrees, but if he wants Nelle to pay, he’ll have to live with it. Michael says he’ll do it. Jordan tells him to keep in touch, and Chase says to reach out if he needs anything. Michael appreciates it, but they don’t want thanks for doing their jobs. Jordan says they tend to frown on people getting away with murder. Chase says, this time, she won’t get away.

Lulu asks if Maxie knew The Colonel was coming. Maxie says she kept her fingers crossed, and it worked out. He’s been everywhere, and done everything. She thought Lulu was the perfect person to meet him and hear his stories. Lulu says she loved it, but the best thing was seeing Maxie. The hospital calls Maxie.  James is coming home, and she tells Lulu to call Obrecht and Nina. It’s the best day ever.

Peter asks Wyatt if the Pioneers talk about initiative, explaining that it means getting personally involved, rather than hanging back and being told what to do. It’s important in helping people. He understands Wyatt thinks he’d be doubted, but they would be wrong. He is being held prisoner. Wyatt would be showing initiative. Because he’s the stupidest kid on the planet, Wyatt says he’s not supposed to talk to strangers. Peter tells him to bring them there. Wyatt thinks they’d have to believe him first. He tells Peter that he did show initiative in one way. He brought s’mores. Peter is like, omg, food, and asks how can he eat while he’s tied up? He says Wyatt will have to untie him – unless he thinks the knots are too difficult. He finally hits he kid where he lives. Wyatt says there’s a whole chapter on them in the Pioneer handbook. Wyatt gets to work, and Peter smiles.

Ava tells Scotty that she’s going to make sure David gets what he deserves. He says it just got more complicated. He has some news, and doesn’t know how to tell her about Kiki and Griff.

Kiki thanks Griff, but he says, don’t. He doesn’t feel good about it. She says it was a one-night mistake. If neither one of them tell, no one will ever find out. She walks away, and the usually worried-looking Griff looks more disgusted than pained.

Jordan tells Chase to go over every possibility three times before making a move. She doesn’t want Michael coming out with even a sprained ankle. Chase says it’s his fault Michael is in this position, and Zack’s family never got justice for his death. He doesn’t cut corners, break rules, or violate procedure. By the time Nelle is turned over to the police, the case will be airtight.

Back at the hospital, Michael tells Nelle that he cleared his entire day. She says she ran into someone who’s convinced he’ll never marry her. He suggests they prove the naysayers wrong and get married today.

Jason tells Sonny that they’re still at risk until they find what they’re looking for, and eliminate the problem. Sonny says that’s good in theory, but it doesn’t always work. Julian gives Sonny his coffee, and says he might have to double his order next month. Business is good, and he’s thinking about expanding; ripping the pub down to the foundation, and building something new. He’s pretty optimistic if he thinks he can do that in a month. He tells Sonny to enjoy his coffee. It’s on the house. Sonny sighs, and Jason shakes his head.

On Monday, Finn tells Chase to let the bonding begin, Scout Wyatt tells Franco about Peter, and Maxie doesn’t want Peter to die.

🎭 Quotes of the Week – From the Deep to the Shallow End

At every moment in every person’s life there is work to be done, always work to be done, some of it small, some of it Great. The Great Work, in a sense, always has to do with healing the world, changing the world, and, as a necessary predicate to that, understanding the world. You rise every morning aware that you are called to this work. You won’t live to see it finished. But if you can’t hear it calling, you aren’t listening hard enough. It’s always calling, sometimes in a big voice, sometimes in a quiet voice.Tony Kushner, American Playwright

You googled, so now you’re dying from something. – Pao’s doctor, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Everything is as good or as bad as our opinion makes it.C.S. Lewis, from Till We Have Faces

Do it again, and I’ll relieve you of your most precious organ and feed it to you. Although it won’t make much of a meal. – Maeve (Thandie Newton), Westworld

It was remarkable. In the worst possible way. – home inspector, Hoarding: Buried Alive

Sharks are racist as hell. Why do you think we call them great whites? – Earl (Garrett Morris), 2 Broke Girls

They might have thought they met some stupid Americans, but things are about to get a little bit more stupider. – Chantel’s mother, 90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After? This goes down in my Quote Hall of Fame as one of my favorites.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At Sonny’s place, Milo tells Mike about Lucy losing her clothes at the Nurses’ Ball. Mike asks if Sonny was ever part of the Magic Milo act, but Sonny says he leaves the stripping to the professionals.

Stella asks Griff about a patient. The form is illegible, and there’s no barcode. Griff says he saw the patient in the ER, and things were rough. Stella tells him she was hired to provide social services, not to translate the Rosetta Stone; meet her halfway. He’s abrupt with her, and she tells him the fact that he has a medical degree doesn’t entitle him to impose on anyone.

At Charlie’s, Julian looks at article in the Port Charles Press naming David as Kiki’s harasser. He tells Ava that he can’t believe it. He needs to decide what to do. Ava asks, decide about what? and he says, how many pieces he’s going to be in when he’s found.

Franco startles Scotty at the park, and Scotty asks if he wants to get the life insurance to pay his wedding bills. He doesn’t understand why Franco set up a meeting with him, and Franco wonders why Scotty wanted it to be in the park. Scotty says he can’t be too careful. They have him double crossing his own client. Franco says that David should have thought twice before harassing Kiki. Now he’s going to get what he deserves. Scotty tells him not to be so sure about that. David just gave him a piece of evidence that will put Kiki in the crosshairs.

Kiki meets Alexis at The Floating Rib. She tells Alexis that she got her hours slashed, while David gets to keep living his life like nothing happened. Alexis tells her not if she has anything to say about it.

Kim and Oscar walk into Charlie’s. Oscar is wearing a dress shirt and tie, and Julian tells him he looks good, and Oscar thanks him in a snarky way. Kim explains that it’s the first day of Oscar’s internship. Julian says he’ll bring some breakfast, but Oscar says he can’t eat. He just saw something that made him nauseous. Julian says, one ginger ale coming up, and Kim tells Julian to surprise her. She asks if Oscar is ready, and he says he’s ready for her to stop wasting time with Julian.

On the phone in his office, Drew tells someone that the company is covered if David sues. Sam comes by, and asks if he has a minute.

Kim tells Oscar that she won’t tolerate him being rude to Julian or anyone else. He says she still has feelings for Drew, and she says she has feelings for Julian that are reciprocated. Oscar says Drew can’t help it if he doesn’t remember his feelings for her. Kim tells him it’s natural to want his parents to be together, but wanting something doesn’t mean it will happen. Oscar thinks she and Drew have been conferring, and asks what Drew said about him.

Sam tells Drew that they’re not sure if Peter left town voluntarily or was abducted. Drew knows that Jordan hired her and Curtis, and asks how she’s liking her new job. She says it’s going slow, but she likes it a lot. They’re looking into the motive of revenge. Drew doesn’t think he can help, but Sam says he worked closer with Peter than she did. She asks if he mentioned an enemy. Drew doesn’t think Peter ever talked about much that was personal, and for sure nothing negative. Sam says she’s worried about Drew. Peter told her that he was going to do a memory reversal procedure with Andre, and had offered him the flash drive in exchange for breaking him out. He’d said Drew turned him down, and was going to do the procedure without it. Drew says, that was the plan. She hopes he’s changed his mind, and he says he decided it wasn’t worth the risk. He couldn’t do it to the kids. Sam says he made the right choice. She thinks he’s great exactly as he is, and Scout and Oscar love having him as a father. Drew says he owed it to them not to live in limbo. He says today is the start of a new life. He got the papers, and it’s official. They’re divorced.

Kiki tells Alexis that she’s made notes on every close encounter with David. Alexis says it will be helpful in structuring the case, but no more publicity. If Lulu wants a follow-up, tell her to wait until the trial starts. Kiki says the waiting makes her anxious, but Alexis says it will give her more time for putting the case together. With Francesca’s cooperation, she’s feeling more confident, but it will still be an ordeal. She believes with their poised and careful testimony, the jury will throw the book at David. Alexis gets a call from Franco. He’s looking at the picture of Griff and Kiki hugging, and says Scotty showed him something that could have an effect on Kiki’s case, and not in a good way.

Milo tells Mike that Epiphany is his biggest fan, but he had to tell her dollar bills don’t cut it. He doesn’t come cheap. Mike asks if Sonny knows Milo, and Milo says they go way back. Sonny asks if Mike took his meds today, and Mike asks if Sonny is checking up on him. Milo says that’s what families are for, and Sonny says he’s been checking on Mike for a long time. Mike leaves to take his medication, and Sonny tells Milo that he’s sorry. Milo tells him not to apologize. Mike is doing better than his mother did. She also had Alzheimer’s.

Drew says, papers are filed, and boom, two people who were once in love are no longer married. Sam starts to cry, and apologizes. She says she thought they should share Scout equally. He asks why she’s giving up Aurora, and she says she thinks it’s best for the company to have a sole owner; it cuts out the uncertainties, since Peter turned out to be a fraud. He says he can handle the fallout from Peter. Why give up something that’s half hers? Sam says Drew made it for them to run together, but they’re not together anymore. She thinks it’s best for the company – and them – to have a clean split. He guesses that’s it then, but she says, not quite.

Oscar asks Kim again what Drew said about him, and she says, next to nothing, but they agreed the past is in the past. In the here and now, they’re his parents and love him. They want to help in making choices that are best for him, but that’s as far as it goes; they have separate lives. Oscar says he’s glad she cleared it up. He tells her that he doesn’t want to be late, and gets up. She says she’ll tell Julian they’re leaving, but he says, stay with Julian. He’d rather walk.

Julian tells Ava that Oscar’s not his biggest fan. Ava is glad he’s willing to spill blood for Kiki, but wants him to stay out of it. She’s going to see how the trial shakes out. He asks what if it doesn’t go her way? She says then she’ll put David in his place. If the justice system fails, she has a plan.

Alexis tells Kiki there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that they got a leg up on Scotty’s defense. The bad news is the defense is going to portray her as a slut who asked for it.

Milo tells Sonny that his mom passed away two years ago. Sonny wishes Milo had told him, but Milo didn’t want to be a burden. Sonny says she was young, and Milo says, it can go that way, especially with women. Although she wasn’t Max’s mom, he and his family helped, and Diane found a good care facility. He doesn’t know what would have done without Epiphany. She got him to a place where he could talk about it. Sonny asks if there’s anything he can do for Milo, and Milo says, learn from his mistakes. The disease is relentless. The end is predictable, but the day to day, not so much. He tells Sonny to be with his father, enjoy the moments, and don’t be too proud to ask for help. There’s nothing bad about it. We all get weepy, and Sonny hugs Milo.

Milo says that Max asked him to drop something off, since he’s at the dentist. He gives Sonny an envelope, and says Max told him it’s everything he could find on the thing Sonny asked him to look into. Sonny says, he can’t get more vague, and Milo thinks that was the point. Sonny asks him to tell Epiphany that he owes her for supporting Milo, and he owes Milo for telling him about his mom. Talking to someone who understands it, helps.

Kiki realizes that David took the photo, and Alexis says he keeps out creeping himself. It was taken at GH, and the hugging wasn’t sexual, but it’s close. Kiki asks when it was taken, and Alexis tells her on April 24th. Kiki says, that was before. When Alexis asks, before what? Kiki says the Nurses’ Ball. Griff was comforting her after David’s harassment. Alexis asks Kiki if there’s anything she should know. It’s not be good be blindsided during the trial.

Griff has another referral for Stella. She says it’s legible and he found a bar code. He promises to be more careful in the future, and tells her, for the record, he doesn’t think having a medical degree entitles him to impose on her or anyone. He says a lot of male staffers are worried about Kiki’s allegations, but their silence isn’t consent. They don’t like a colleague imposing unwanted advances on anyone. He wishes they’d opened their eyes before this happened.

Scotty tells Franco that he just shared privileged information with him, and Kiki is a big girl. Franco says, it doesn’t matter how old she is, and Scotty says it sounds like he’s familiar with the experience.

Kim introduces herself to Ava. Ava says it’s about time. She wondered what gave Julian the extra spring in his step. Julian says, look no further.

Sam tells Drew that she’s sorry the vows they said didn’t last, but she’s not sorry they made them. She’s grateful for their time together. He saved her life, and helped bring their daughter into the world, and she’s grateful they’ll always be bonding over her. Drew says he’s grateful for the love they shared. He’s sorry it has to end this way. Sam is too, but she had to stand on her own and start over for the kids and herself. She misses what they had, and thinks she always will. She says it’s a new start for the both of them. She gives him her rings, and hopes it’s a good one. Drew says a lot of things went wrong, but the rings represent real love. He asks her to hold on to them for Scout. They hug, and he tells her it’s going to be okay.

Scotty tells Franco it looks like he struck a chord. Franco says, you know what they say about a broken clock. (I had to look this up – it’s right twice a day.) He tells Scotty not to be like that, and Scotty says, like what? Concerned, interested, dare he say fatherly? He knows Franco thinks he’s a deadbeat because he came into Franco’s life later. He’s tried to help, but Franco has a cloud hanging over his head, and it’s noticeable. He says Franco has an inner circle, but he can’t get in there. Franco admits he hasn’t shared a rather sizable demon. Scotty asks if Franco doesn’t trust him, and Franco says, if he does, it might change things. Is Scotty ready for that? Scotty says he is. Franco tells him that he didn’t have anyone like him when he was little. Just Drew and Betsy, who wasn’t equipped to deal with what was happening, and he was just a little kid.

Oscar goes to Drew’s office. Drew says they have a busy day ahead. First, he’s going to meet the head of the press, and going to shadow him. Then they’ll poke into the newsroom, but there’s some clerical stuff to take care of first. It’s not exciting, but it’s important. Drew notices that something is wrong, and asks, what’s going on? Oscar wonders if he ran the itinerary by his mom, since they report to each other behind his back.

Kiki tells Alexis that she’s already given her all sexual history, and asks if she should make a PowerPoint presentation for the jury. Alexis says she’s looking for a bad relationship that could be used to support her as the aggressor. Kiki says she never came on to or slept with someone as part of an agenda. Alexis says the last thing they need is a surprise, and Kiki says, there won’t be one.

Mike comes back downstairs. Sonny asks if he took his meds, and he says, yes, nurse. He asks what happened to Milo, and Sonny says he had to leave. Mike says Milo is a great kid, and Sonny says Milo and his mom have been taking care of his family for a long time. Mike says, unlike Sonny’s father, who didn’t take care of him. Sonny says sometimes he did. He followed him to Croton. Mike tells him to forget about it, but Sonny says, it’s important. Where did Mike take the body?

Scotty tells Franco the dark cloud is starting to make sense. He wishes his own father was there. He would know what to say, since Scotty isn’t equipped to handle it. He’s sorry Franco was hurt, and wishes he could have stopped it or helped him. He says he’s sorry, and Franco says he appreciates it, and thanks him. Scotty says if he gets something on David, he’ll let him know. They hug.

Kiki tells Griff she needs to talk to him away from the hospital.

Ava tells Kim that they should have dinner. Maybe Griff could come; she’s been wanting to get the boys together to have a good time. Kim says the last double-date she was on was in high school. She got food poisoning, and she’d like another shot at it. They decide to come up with a date that fits all of their schedules.

Drew tells Oscar that he doesn’t report to Oscar’s mom. Oscar says, if you say so. Drew says it’s important that Oscar respect him, and he didn’t betray any confidence. Oscar asks why he told her that Oscar wanted them back together. Drew says after the awards ceremony at Kelly’s, Kim wondered why Oscar had suddenly soured on Julian, and realized it was because he wanted them together. Drew didn’t confirm or deny. Oscar says he’s not a lawyer; he’s Drew’s son. Drew says it’s not exactly a secret that he doesn’t want Julian with his mom, and it was easy to presume. He told Kim that it was a natural thing to want. They have their own lives, but they both love him. They have that in common, but that’s as far as it goes.

Sam sees Alexis, and says she’s checking in. Alexis asks, as a daughter or a client? and Sam says, both. She just found out the divorce papers were executed. Alexis tells her that she knew they went out today, and if she checks her voicemail, there’s a message about it. Alexis wanted Sam to hear it from her first. She asks if Sam is okay; she wants the truth.

Mike talks about doing some small-time jobs for Charlie’s family, and Sonny asks if he went to the city after Croton. Mike says it was decades ago, and Sonny says there’s no statute of limitations for murder. Mike says he saw Sonny bury it, and he moved it; why isn’t that enough? Sonny says Mike told him that he moved it closer to home. Did he move it to Port Charles?

👿 Here’s where ABC breaks in to tell me that Scott Pruitt resigned. Because it can’t wait ten minutes. This time, I tried to go legit, using the ABC website to fill it in – they did come back for the tail end – but I had to watch fifty commercials just to get five minutes worth of show. I think next time I’ll continue to go rogue and use the pirated version. Sorry Clorox, BMW, and Secret antiperspirant.

Drew tells Oscar that he was just trying to get on the same page as his mom. Oscar says he’s sorry for snapping. Drew says it’s no one’s fault. His mom did a fantastic job of raising him. Drew promises he won’t tell her anything said in confidence.

Sam tells Alexis that the day Drew left her, he got in a fight with Jason. The PCPD called her, and she went down to the station to pay his bail. When he came out, he just walked past her, and she felt like no one, nothing. She guesses it was rock bottom, so when Alexis asks how she feels, she’s devastated that her marriage is over, but thinks she made right choice. They can both move on with their lives. Alexis asks if she can do anything to make it easier, and Sam says she’s the best mom and lawyer a girl could ask for. Alexis says she’d better be if she’s going to win Kiki’s case. It’s a little tricky, but she had a breakthrough this morning. Sam asks why she’s worried then, and Alexis tells Sam that she’s assuming her client is keeping something from her.

Franco tells Ava that Scotty agreed to reach out to Alexis and share tactics, so they know how David is spinning things. Ava says their strategy appears to be working’ they might not have to use drastic measures. Franco tells her about David having a photo he took of Kiki and Griff. Ava wonders, what photo?

Griff meets Kiki in the park, and asks, what’s going on? She tells him that David took a photo of them hugging. She doesn’t want him to be blindsided on the stand, and says they’ll also have to be prepared for her mom to ask questions. She says Alexis bought her explanation, and he asks if Alexis knows what happened. Kiki says she didn’t tell her; it has nothing to do with the case. Griff thinks it might help her fight the case. Kiki tells him there’s an old saying that three can keep a secret if two are dead. She adds that if her mom finds out about them, they might as well be dead. Scotty is listening in from behind a tree. I realize that lawyers could spin something like this, but I fail to see how it would be unusual for Kiki to hug Griff. He’s her mother’s boyfriend, and technically, as well as weirdly, could become her stepfather if he and Ava ended up getting married.

Kim asks Julian what all the boxes are for. He says he’s been cleaning out the back room. He wants to see if it can be expanded to give him more private space.

Sonny tells Mike the foundation of the pub was laid the same year he turned eighteen. The same year he buried the body and Mike moved it. He asks if Charlie helped Mike, and Mike says Sonny had a problem and they took care of it. Sonny says, it’s in the pub, isn’t it?

Kim tells Julian that he’ll never know what he might find under the façade. Old buildings are loaded with quirks. He says, whatever is buried in these walls, he can handle it.

Mike tells Sonny that the Feds would have to bust up the foundation to find the body.

I am loving this dead body storyline.

Tomorrow, Maxie says maybe she and Lulu can help each other like they used to, Ava tells Nelle that she’ll defend herself by any means necessary, and Peter asks if anyone was told he’s there. I assume the Scout came back for his bugle.

🐒🐐🐪 If you love animals, I highly recommend My Wild Life on TLC. Bobbie Jo and Jerry Abrams have a blended family all under one roof… three children, nanny, Naa Naa and 81 fur babies. The animal siblings include, a zebra, camel, kangaroos, llamas, wallabies and a recently adopted sloth. While there’s been some concern from animal rights groups about such a variety of animals living together, it looks like it works for them. Their website also states: We are a USDA licensed facility and highly trained to care for each of our unique animals. All of them are up to date on their shots and received lots of daily attention from our staff. Just don’t try this at home. I think the first season might be over, as I saw a couple of reruns late night, and don’t see it listed in the guide right now, but you can watch episodes for free here:

☝ One Good Quote…

Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?Mary Manin Morrissey

🎡 The Fourth…

Tonight’s Southern Charm was a rerun from last week. I was actually kind of glad. I didn’t mind watching Ashley make a fool of herself at the polo match again, and while I can’t wait to watch her make a supreme fool out of herself at Patricia’s Winter Wonderland Ball, I’m happy to call it an early night. There’s been a heat wave, it’s not burning in my heart, and I spent way too much time on the boardwalk yesterday at the annual Oceanfest. It’s really a glorified flea market, with the addition of sand sculptures and fireworks, but it’s a tradition in our household. We never stick around for the fireworks, because, our dogs. It wasn’t too horrible this year. We blasted music and talked very loudly with each other, and now the dogs are afraid of us instead. JUST KIDDING. But it worked. Along with the grilled hamburger we occasionally slipped them.

July 3, 2018 – Nelle Visits Carly, David Pimp Slaps Veronica, Tales from Bravoland & Independence Day Fun

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Michael says he told his mom that he’d look out for his family and protect them. Sonny says his mom is his family, and she’s in Ferncliff, thanks to Nelle setting her up. Terry and Elizabeth go down Memory Lane. Cameron, who’s aged quite a lot in a very short time, comes downstairs, and Elizabeth introduces him to Terry. He leaves for the fireworks, and Elizabeth tells Terry that he’s a pretty responsible kid. Terry says, so he’s nothing like they were. Franco comes home, and Elizabeth introduces her childhood friend. Franco says Elizabeth told him that Terry was her first kiss. Terry says she’s proud of it, but she went by he at the time.

Rupert tells Carly that she has a visitor. Nelle says, hi, grandma, explaining to Rupert that Carly is her baby’s grandma, not hers. Rupert asks if Carly wants him to escort Nelle out. She says, no, but wait outside; she won’t be long. Nelle says the place is worse than she imagined. Carly tells her maybe one day she’ll find out for herself. Nelle says, someone is in a bad mood, but she has news to make Carly’s day. She’s been thinking long and hard about the damage that’s been done, and has one way to make better. Nelle says she forgives Carly.

Michael tells Jason and Sonny that his mom warned him about Nelle, and he has to pay for his mistakes.  paying for his mistakes. Sonny doesn’t see it that way, and wants to protect Michael. Michael says Sonny has; now it’s his turn. He’s going into the marriage with his eyes wide open. Sonny says, it’s a losing battle. Michael says to tell Carly it’s going to be okay. Even if he’s lying, say he believes in Michael.

Terry doesn’t want to intrude, but Elizabeth and Franco ask her to stay. Terry asks if Franco is weirded out, but he says he’s relieved. He had been a little jealous. Terry appreciates the candor, and Franco says Elizabeth could have clued him in to… Terry explains it’s called gender transition, and that Elizabeth didn’t know. They drink to surprises.

Lucas and Brad talk about including everyone in family gatherings, and ask Sam if she’ll be there. She says Danny loves being a big brother, and will take on a new cousin like a champ. Brad says this is really happening.

Kim asks if Julian wants to talk about it. He wonders what there is to talk about. She says his son and daughter are there, and not even looking in his direction. He’s glad they’re spending time together. He’d like to be a part of it, but thinks it’s too late to be a father to them. Kim disagrees, at least with Lucas. Maybe he can’t be a full-fledged father, but he can have a relationship. She saw them at the hospital, and it’s not lost on Lucas how hard he’s tried. She thinks he has a chance.

Josslyn says Oscar seems bummed. He tells her that he hates his mom being with Julian. He knows things are hard for Josslyn with her family right now, but Josslyn says they can’t do anything about their moms tonight, so they should enjoy what they can control. They have an awesome spot for the fireworks. They kiss, and Cameron appears, asking if he’s interrupting.

Carly can’t believe Nelle came all that way just to say she forgives her. Nelle says it’s an important part of healing. Carly says making peace means so much to her. Being in there isn’t ideal, but she sees how much she needed it, and is going to do whatever work it takes to get back to her family. Nelle says, ever growing family, and Carly asks how she’s feeling. Nelle says, wonderful. Michael is waiting on her hand and foot. The pregnancy went by quickly, and there’s been a lot going on. Carly says Nelle has been busy, but Nelle says, never too busy for her.

Sonny tells Michael that he does believe in him, and to take care of himself. Jason tells Michael these are not normal circumstance. Nelle will do anything to get what she wants. Michael says, she wants him. Sonny says they don’t know what she’ll do now. He and Jason explain about the flyer, and how Nelle was trying to make Carly believe his brother was still alive. There’s no line Nelle won’t cross. Michael says he’s smart enough to call for help if he needs it. Sonny has to go, and tells Michael to be careful. After he leaves, Jason asks Michael why the hell he’s marrying Nelle.

Brad thinks it’s the perfect time, and Sam asks, for what? Lucas says they would be grateful if she’d be their baby’s godmother. She’s an amazing mom, and they know if it came to it, she’d go to the ends of the earth for their kid. She’s in, and they make a toast to the godmother. Julian approaches the table, and hopes the baby arrives safely, healthy, and happy. They thank him, and he says he wants it for both their families. Lucas says they’ll let him know when the baby arrives. He goes back to his table, and Sam says her first order of business as godmother is to advise they don’t let Julian in the baby’s life.

Terry says she wasn’t brave; she was scared to death. Elizabeth says that’s why she’s so brave. Franco asks if there was a turning point, and Terry says the older she got, the more trapped she felt, until she couldn’t stand it. Elizabeth can’t believe Terry didn’t tell her. Terry says back then, she just felt like something was off, but she was comfortable and could be herself with Elizabeth. Elizabeth wishes she’d been there to offer support, and Terry says she didn’t know. Elizabeth asks about her parents. Terry tells her, at first, they didn’t know what was happening. Terry acted out with negative behaviors, and they just wanted her to get better, but when it meant that they had to acknowledge she was a girl, no one wanted it. Least of all her brother.

Josslyn explains to Oscar that she and Cameron grew up together. Cameran tells him how they got married in elementary school, and Josslyn ate the licorice ring. Cameron asks how Oscar likes Port Charles, and Oscar says Josslyn has been showing him the ropes. Cameron tells them he’s life-guarding this summer. Josslyn says Oscar has an internship with his dad, and she’ll be reporting for duty as a camp counselor. Cameron says they can hang out.

Nelle gets Carly some water. She says she’s been spending time with Josslyn; they have special bond. Josslyn is excited about becoming aunt. Carly says Josslyn is growing up, and Nelle says, in more ways than one. Carly asks what that means. Nelle says Josslyn confided in her about her relationship with Oscar. It sounds like things are heating up. She hopes Carly doesn’t mind, but she took Josslyn to buy some lingerie; nothing trashy, but age appropriate. Whatever that means at age fourteen. Carly says she trusts Nelle implicitly, and Nelle says then she won’t mind that she asked Josslyn to be her maid of honor. Michael proposed. She asks if she can call Carly mom. Carly says she’s speechless. Nelle says she couldn’t believe it either. The alone time brought them closer with no interference. Carly asks when, and Nelle says, as soon as possible. They’re going to be a true family from the start. Carly thinks it’s amazing. Getting married for the sake of baby is great, although those marriages don’t always last. She married AJ for Michael’s sake. Nelle asks if Carly doesn’t think Michael will love her, and Carly says he put a ring on it, but just because a couple can make a baby doesn’t mean they should be married. Nelle says, not her and Michael, and Carly tells Nelle that she’s right. Rupert tells Carly she has another visitor. Sonny asks what the hell Nelle doing there.

Michael tells Jason to let Nelle think her plan worked, and that he’s in love with her. Over-confident people make mistakes. Jason says she killed her last fiancé; he’s risking his life. Michael says he gets it. Nelle is dangerous and evil and all those things. He’s not pretending she isn’t, but she’s carrying his child. She put his mother, and Jason’s best friend, in an institution. There’s no limit to what she’ll do, but she’s not playing him again. It’s his turn, and he guarantees he’ll win.

Sam tells Lucas he has an I-feel-bad-for-dad face. Lucas says Julian did what he wanted, and respected the boundaries. Sam needs to stand down. Sam says, not when it comes to Julian. She strongly suggests he do the same.

Kim tells Julian that wasn’t so bad, but he says he can feel the arctic chill. He doesn’t expect things to change. He’s concerned about Lucas not knowing anything about the birth mother though. She can snatch the baby back at any minute, and he doesn’t want Lucas robbed of the chance to be a father.

Terry tells Elizabeth that her brother hasn’t spoken to her since her transition. Elizabeth says she must have felt betrayed. Terry says he thinks she just decided she was over being a boy, and would rather be a girl, but she was finally reconciling her physical and emotional sides. Franco says she was freed to be seen for who she really is. He gets it. He knows the pain of rejection. They agree it stinks.

Carly tells Sonny that Nelle came to tell her that she and Michael are getting married. Sonny thought she was getting her ring sized. Nelle says the jeweler is close by. Sonny says he can’t stop the marriage, but he’s not letting her get in his wife’s face. Nelle says she’s glad to brighten Carly’s day. Carly tells her to give Michael a hug, and when she’s gone, tells Sonny, this is not happening.

Michael tells Jason the mistakes his parents have made were because they let emotions get in the way. The baby is 100% innocent, and he’s going to protect it at all costs. He needs to make Nelle feel comfortable, secure, and loved as long as it takes to exonerate his mom. Right now, he needs to focus on the baby. Jason says he couldn’t do it, and respects him for that. He tells Michael that every time he lies, it will cost him. Michael says he knows it, and Jason tells him not to give up his soul for her. Make sure he can live with his choices. Michael says he can live with anything, as long as his mom and the baby are safe.

Kim realizes that’s why Julian wanted to know about the records. He says he wants to know the deal with the birth mother – and father. Does the father even know? He doesn’t want anyone hurt in this scenario, especially his son. Kim tells him that he’s not a party. As much as it stinks, it’s out of his control. She asks, given his experience, if it’s hard to be with her because of what she did to Drew.

Lucas tells Sam that he loves and is grateful to her. They drink to the baby.

Jason goes to the footbridge.

Elizabeth wishes she’d been there, and Terry asks if she thinks she could have talked sense into her brother Sean. Elizabeth says she could have been a friend and listened. Terry says she’s doing that now, but Elisabeth wonders why Terry didn’t confide in her sooner. Terry says for one thing, she was gone, and Elizabeth was her Biz. She couldn’t stand the thought of rejection. Elizabeth realizes Terry thought she wouldn’t accept her.

Cameron has camp training early, and leaves. Oscar says he seems like an okay guy, but he’s not going to lie. He likes it being just the two of them. Josslyn says, her too.

Carly tells Sonny that Nelle is dangerous. He says Michael knows, but she says Nelle is psychotic dangerous. She’s a sociopath who killed her last fiancé. Does Sonny want Michael to go next? Carly tells him that he has to do whatever it takes to stop it.

Julian says he doesn’t judge Kim’s choices about Oscar. The situation is different. She wasn’t trying to keep Drew from his son. She says she could have worked harder. He says she did the best she could. She did what was necessary, and he respects her decisions. She says, then instead of jumping to the worst case scenario with the biological parents, he should think that they’re doing what’s in the best interest of their child; giving them to a good home. Julian says he wasn’t able to protect Lucas growing up, and doesn’t want him to get hurt. Kim says, getting hurt is part of the job. He thanks her for listening. He appreciates her solid advice – and her.

Terry tells Elizabeth that she’s knocked on a few doors, and not many have been as warm and welcoming. Elizabeth says Terry is her friend. She loves her, and nothing will change that. She asks if Terry would like to stay with them, but she has a consult in morning. Elizabeth is excited that she’ll be working at GH, and says she has to come to the wedding. Terry is her oldest friend. Terry agrees, as long as Elizabeth stops calling her old. She’s happy Elizabeth found Franco. She tells Franco that Elizabeth has a huge, compassionate heart that was meant to be shared with someone like him. He says he’s a lucky guy, and grateful. Terry leaves, and Franco hugs Elizabeth.

Sonny says Michael is doing this because he feels guilty. He’s been beating himself up for getting involved with Nelle, and her ending up in Ferncliff. Carly says they’ve already lost Morgan; they can’t lose Michael. Sonny tells her that Michael is a grown man. He trusts Michael, and she needs to trust him. She says it’s Nelle who she doesn’t trust. She might kill him out of spite. He says Michael’s got it, and she asks if he’s got Michael. He says, always. Sonny has some good news about the flyer on her car. He says, invisible ink, and laughs. Carly calls Nelle a bitch, and asks if he can prove it. He says not that Nelle is behind it, but they’re trying. Until then, everything has to stay as it is. Carly says, so she stays in there, and Michael marries Nelle.

Michael asks how the sizing went, and Nelle says, actually, she went to visit his mom instead. She wanted to tell her about the engagement personally. She thought if she could explain how much she loves him and the baby, it would make it easier, but no such luck. Michael doesn’t think it’s a good time to reach out. Carly is still in recovery, and needs space. Nelle apologizes, saying she was so happy, she wanted to share it, and give Carly a piece of joy to hold on to. She asks Michael what if Carly never accepts her, and he says, then so be it. He loves her, and him, her, and the baby are all that matters; they’re a family. He doesn’t think his mom will shut her out forever. Things change, and eventually she’ll give in; she has to. Nelle hopes he’s right as long as motivated by good intentions everything will be fine

Sam brings Danny to the footbridge. Jason asks if Danny is there to watch the fireworks. Danny tells him that his mom says it’s the best view ever. Sam says she was telling him about how Jason built the bridge. Jason says he wasn’t out there with a hammer, but he paid for it. The old one had been special to a friend of his, and over time, to him too. Danny asks if Jason will watch fireworks with them, and Jason says he’d like that. Sam smiles.

Elizabeth and Franco sit on the couch, talking about the visit from Terry. Cameron comes in home early. He tells them that he saw Josslyn, and she’ll be being working at camp. It should be cool. He stomps upstairs, and Franco says, teenagers. The fireworks start, and they stand outside. Franco says it must have been hard for Terry, not being herself. He forgives Elizabeth for making out with Terry. They kiss.

Everyone goes outside at The Floating Rib. Oscar and Josslyn watch from their blanket. Oscar tells Josslyn that he tried the cologne and really likes it.

Nelle tells Michael, next year, they will be a family. He says, perfect.

Sonny has to go. He tells Carly, the next time, the celebration will be hers; he promises. They kiss.

On the footbridge, Danny sits on Jason’s shoulders. Jason and Sam smile at each other.

Tomorrow the show from January 17, 2018 will be aired. Why that one? Who knows? On Thursday, Stella tells Griff not to impose, Oscar tells Kim to stop wasting time with Julian, and Drew tells Sam they’re divorced.

The Haves and the Have Nots

RJ asks David, what the hell, and David says get out of his face. Veronica can’t believe David really hit her. He says after all he’s done for her, and all the sacrifices he made for her. The new house was supposed to be hers after she burned the other one down. She starts freaking out, and hopping up and down. David says she’s made his life hell. RJ tells David to go, but David tells him to mind his own business. Veronica says she has this. She’s going to show him how bad it can get. David tells her to give it her best shot. She says when they got married, she had two rules. One, that he not cheat on her, and two, that he never lay a hand on her; now he’s done both, and he’s with that heifer. He says he never cheated on her, but he had to see her with Benny in the paper. He gave up on her ass. She says he doesn’t know what cheating is, and he calls her insane, telling her not to go near his son or Erica. Stay out of his life. She says, you’ll regret it, and repeats it in a singsong way.

RJ asks if she’s all right. She screams at him to get out, and keeps singsonging, you’ll regret it. After RJ leaves, she repeats, he hit me, over and over. She gets her phone and sits on the couch. She calls Derek, who tells her it’s the middle of the night, but she doesn’t give a damn; she needs some help. She needs some numbers for a partner in crime. He says he’s not doing this, and she says, don’t tell her what he’s not going to do. She wants the numbers at her house by the morning. He says he’s not in that life anymore, but again, she doesn’t give a damn.

Jeffrey sits in the middle of the trashed condo. David comes in, and asks if he’s okay. Jeffrey keeps saying he’s sorry, and David tells him to stop that; his mother is a mess. Jeffrey says she didn’t do this, and David asks who did. Jeffrey tells him, Officer Justin, and David asks if it was before or after they had sex; Veronica told him. Jeffrey says, after, and he knows David is going to tell him to end it. David didn’t know there was something to end, and Jeffrey says, he doesn’t know there is. He likes Justin, and he needs help. David says, so does Jeffrey’s mother, but she won’t change. He says, this kind of behavior leads to bodily harm, and asks if Justin has been abusive. Jeffrey says he has, both physically and verbally. David wonders if Jeffrey didn’t study this in psyche class.

Justin comes out, and says he’s sorry. David says he didn’t know Justin was there, and Jeffrey says, that makes two of them. Justin says he’ll pay for it, but David asks if he can afford a $16,000 couch. Justin says, no, but he’ll try. David says Jeffrey is an adult. If he chooses to be involved with someone like Justin, there’s not much he can do, but Justin needs to get help. Justin says he knows, and David says he’ll be watching. Jeffrey’s mother is nothing compared to what he’ll do to protect the well-being of his son. He asks Jeffrey if he’s sure this is what he wants, but Jeffrey doesn’t know. David tells him when he figures it out, let him know. He has to leave before he gets sick. He tells Justin the misusing of his son makes him want to throw Justin off the balcony, and tells Jeffrey that he’ll have new furniture sent over. He leaves and Jeffrey tells Justin that he’s serious, and asks why he came back. Justin says to beg forgiveness. Jeffrey tells him that he says that a lot, but he’s forgiven. Justin says there’s a program at the department where he can talk to a psychologist, and Jeffrey says he needs to. Justin asks if it works and he gets better, will Jeffrey move in with him? Jeffrey tells him to just focus on getting better. Justin says he will, and Jeffrey says, get out. Justin says he loves Jeffrey, and wants him to say the same. Jeffrey says, I love you; bye. Justin leaves.

DA George is told they have footage from across the street from the bar. An officer asks what’s the hold-up with the Cryer case, and George says the family is strong. They’re connected, and he needs every bit of ammo he can get. The officer asks, what about the son, and George says, he’s a drug addict; not a good character witness. They look at the footage that’s focused on the bar. George wonders what Wyatt is doing there, and then sees Jim, and wonders what the hell he’s doing there. The officer says the witness didn’t see them, but recognized this guy, pointing to Benny coming out the door. The witness said he was the assailant. George says, it’s Benjamin Young. He was hit with a car by Wyatt, and the family covered it up; what’s going on? The officer says the witness claims he’s the guy, and George tells them to bring Benny in.

Sarah asks for evidence to check against a case. The deputy, who obviously thinks she’s hot, lets her into the evidence room. He tells her a shift change is coming, and to hurry, because he doesn’t want anyone to know he let her in. She takes out a box, and puts something in her purse, presumably the bullets. She thanks him, and leaves.

Hanna calls Kathryn. Neither one of them slept well. Kathryn tells Hanna that she called the attorney. Hanna thanks her, saying she thinks the police will be breaking down her door any minute. Kathryn tells her to calm down, and not to worry about the cost. After the call ends, Hanna takes out her laptop, saying she has $32.00 in her account. Not anymore. It’s $8 million now. What bank is that? The interest rate is phenomenal. She calls Kathryn back, and gets voicemail. She leaves a message saying she can’t accept it, and to call her back.

Jeffrey visits Wyatt, who’s still in a straitjacket. Wyatt says he’s been in restraints all night. Jeffrey tells him that he looks better, and will get what he needs. Wyatt wonders if it isn’t illegal to keep him there, but Jeffrey says he said he was going to kill himself. Wyatt says he was kidding, and Jeffrey says they don’t know that. He tells Wyatt that his mother will be coming, and he’ll be fine. Wyatt says they’re going to kill him, and tells Jeffrey to go. He leaves, and Wyatt lies down.

On the phone, Sarah tells Jim, it’s done. He asks where it is, and she says she’s getting rid of it. He asks how he’ll know, and she says, when the case is dropped. He wants proof, but she says she’s not sending him proof. He tells her that he wants it brought personally. Do it, and they’re through. She asks how she knows he’s telling the truth, and Jim says she’ll have to trust him. Sarah says that will never happen. He knows how dangerous this is. He says, bring it. He’ll text the address, and make sure she’s not followed. She says, no sh*t.

There’s a knock at Veronica’s door, and she says, there’s a doorbell, boy. Derek comes in, and she asks if he got her numbers. He puts a paper on the end table, and starts to leave, but she tells him, not so fast. When she calls, she needs for him to come. She doesn’t care what he’s doing. Unless he wants her to call his parole officer. He says, some things are worth going back to jail for. Why not leave him alone? He’s living a clean, honest life. She doesn’t give a damn. He owes her, and she always collects. He asks how much is enough? and she says when she decides it is. He wonders if she knows what he was in for, and she asks if he’s threatening her. He says call him again, and yes. She laughs at him, and says she can’t wait to need something else. She says, they better be good numbers. When he leaves, she can’t believe a damn convict is threatening her.

Benny is surprised to find Hanna at home, and she says she’s not going to work with this thing hanging over their heads. Benny says it will be fine, and she says, she knows; she got a lawyer. She doesn’t want to use Veronica, and they can afford it. She checked the account, but her boss put too much in. Benny wonders why Kathryn is being so nice, and asks, how much? She says she’s going to use it to pay for the lawyer, and give the rest back. Kathryn calls back, and Hanna asks if she’s lost her mind. She put over $8 million in Hanna’s account, and she can’t accept it. Kathryn says she didn’t put it in there, and Hanna asks, who did? Kathryn has an idea, but can’t talk right now. She’ll call Hanna back. Hanna tells Benny it’s a mistake, and starts to call the bank. He says, it’s not a mistake.

Candace’s phone rings. It’s Benny, who asks how much money she put into the account. When Hanna hears the money came from Candace, she freaks. Benny insists he told Candace it was a joint account, and she says they have to move the money. He asks where it came from, and she tells him, it’s legit. She’ll explain when she gets there, and don’t let Hanna touch it. Benny tells Hanna that they should hear what Candace has to say, but Hanna says they’re not keeping it. He says they don’t know where it came from, and Candace says, it came from the devil.

Charles practices a speech, and Landon tells him it’s perfect. He’s going to knock the ladies dead again. He leaves to check on their departure times. Another member of Charles’s staff is there (another guy who has no name), and tells Charles to be careful of Landon. He doesn’t see it, the way Landon caters to him. Charles says Landon is a good guy. Dude says, he’s gay. Charles says, no, but dude says, yes. Now Charles feels stupid, having talked to Landon about women. Dude says Landon is smitten with him, but Charles can’t believe it. He says Landon is a professional and won’t cross lines, and he’s not so sure Landon is gay. Even if he is, so what? Dude says, just be careful. Charles says, they’re adults. Landon can’t do anything to him. Dude says that’s not what he means. Some of the staff are whispering about them. Charles says, ridiculous. Dude says Landon is territorial. All the nights in Charles’s room, the staff is wondering if there’s more to the relationship. Charles says he’s done with the conversation. He doesn’t want to hear it again. Landon comes back, and tells him the car is ready.

Erica looks at an ovulation test. She calls Rocky, and he tells her about Candace beating him with the golf club. He tells her be careful, but she says she still has to work a john. He asks how it’s going, and she says, better. Today, she’s ovulating. He tells her to be careful, but she says, this one is worth it. She needs him to apologize to Candace, and he says, hell no. She says he’s on the inside, and she needs it to happen; just apologize. She needs to know what Candace is up to, and he’s the only one who knows her. She’ll pay him when payday comes. He asks how much, and she says they only deal in millions. He tells her to let him get out, and he’ll think about it.

David goes to Kathryn’s house. He needs Jim to talk him down. Veronica made him come out of himself; he had to pimp slap her. Jim laughs, and David says it’s not funny; he feels terrible. Jim says, about a bitch who tried to burn him alive in his own house? David knows it sounds crazy. Jim asks how hard it is when you pimp slap someone, and David says she flew across the room. Jim can barely keep it together, and says he gave that bitch some wings. David says it was a lot of rage, especially for him. Jim thinks David should have let him take her out when he had the opportunity. David asks where Kathryn is, but Jim doesn’t know and doesn’t care. David says Veronica is going to retaliate, and it will be brutal. He thinks she’ll go after Erica first. Jim asks if she’s the girl living with him, and says David is smitten. David admits he is, and Jim asks what he knows about her. David says he’s not marrying her. He had Oscar check her out, and Jim snarks that’s a real confidence builder. Oscar had better get his money back. Candace put it in Benny’s name. David calls her a clever fox, but Jim says he’s a clever fox watcher, and he’s not playing in the trash anymore. Sarah comes up the walk, and Jim says, here comes his get-out-of-jail-free card. David should leave – plausible deniability.

Sarah gives Jim the evidence envelope, and says, we’re done. Jim says, not quite, but she means it. He repeats, not quite. He wants to show her something upstairs. She says it’s his wife’s house, and she’s not doing that. She’s done, and she means it. She walks out, and Jim smiles.

Candace goes to Hanna’s house. Benny asks where she got the money, and she says she blackmailed someone powerful. Hanna says, first Jim, now the man running for President. Candace says she’s talking to Benny, and she’s not telling who. He needs to open an account, and move the money. She’ll give him a million dollars. It’s for the tow yard and house; she wants to make it right. Hanna asks how can she make right what she’s got wrong? Candace says she was talking to Benny, but Hanna says, it’s her house. Candace asks, is it? Candace tells Benny that she’ll leave the money in the account for him, and that thing. Benny tells her to watch her mouth. She asks if he doesn’t want a fresh start. Benny says someone is going to be after her; they always are. Hanna tells her that everything she does, comes back around; it already has. Candace says she’s heard that before. Hanna is like a broken record or an R&B song – or is it an old Negro spiritual? Hanna says this is the kind of mess that her baby got killed over; is she crazy? Candace says she needs the money. Hanna calls it death money, and shows her a picture of Quincy Jr. She asks if Benny is going to be a criminal too, and why can’t Candace look at the picture? She tells Candace, it takes two signatures, and Benny says, she’s right. Candace wants to know why Hanna is like this; so self-righteous. She tells Benny that she needs this, but he says he can’t do it without Hanna. Candace tells Hanna that the money is hers. Hanna says it’s blackmail money, not her money. She won’t give it to Candace, but she will give it back. Candace asks, to who? Hanna says, the FBI. They must be looking for it.

The doorbell rings. It’s the police with a warrant for Benny, and they arrest him.

Next time, Candace wants her money and says, don’t make her show how evil she can be; Justin visits Wyatt, and suggests he hang himself; and Candace calls RJ for some muscle against her mother. Who will get revenge first?
