What I Watched Today
(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)
General Hospital
Carly joins Michael at the MetroCourt. He tells her that Nelle wrote to him from Pentonville.
Nina tells Maxie that maybe her mother is trying to send a message from the grave. Maxie asks what Nina thinks she’s trying to tell her, and Nina says that she didn’t miscarry the baby. The baby is still alive somewhere. She knows it sounds farfetched. Maxie says she knows Nina wants a child more than anything, and can understand why she wants to believe her mom tried to redeem herself. Nina says she’s not trying to think Madeline is good now that she’s gone, but has the necklace has symbolism. It was whole. Why divide it? It means something. And why would Madeline say it would mend her broken heart? When she woke up from her coma, her heart was broken because her baby was gone. Maybe Madeline is trying to tell her that she has a baby out there. What if her baby is alive, and out there somewhere?
Valentin calls Curtis, and says he’s eager to hear about the search.
Sonny tells Jason that Mike was worried and upset, but not disoriented. He knows exactly what happened; he put body the in the foundation at Charlie’s. Jason says Mike seemed okay when he got there. Sonny says he told Mike that he could handle it; he has resources. Jason says that’s true, and Sonny says, to a point. If Julian hires contractors, and renovates, a lot can still go wrong. Jason says, worst case scenario. If both the body and gun are uncovered, how can the gun be tied back to him?
Mike goes to the basement at Charlie’s, and looks around with a flashlight. He finds the gas pipe, and takes out a wrench. He whacks at the pipe until it separates.
Julian tells Kristina that he’ll be busy managing contractors, and have no time to do interviews for the bartending gig. Kristina asks if that means she has the job. He says, on one condition; she starts now. She can thank him pulling her weight. He needs someone smart and attentive, without their nose in their phone. (I hear this. Nothing worse than trying to get a bartender’s attention when they’re busy on their phone.) Can she manage that? Kristina says, definitely. He’ll never want her to leave.
Mike goes back up the steps.
Nina says Maxie thinks she’s crazy. Maxie doesn’t know what to say; it was over twenty years ago. Nina says the whole time period is a question mark. She has no idea what went on, or if she miscarried.
Carly tells Michael that Nelle will stop at nothing. Michael says, no, she won’t. He’s spent the day figuring out what do. Carly tells him to toss it out, but he thinks he should read it first. Carly says nothing Nelle has to say could make him feel better. He should call the jail, and tell them he wants no correspondence from her. He says he doesn’t ever want to see her again, but he chose to get involved. No matter how much he hates her, they both lost their boy.
Sonny tells Jason that he hasn’t thought of Croton in years. Now, he can’t stop thinking about it. Jason asks where he got the gun, and he says Skully gave it to him. Jason says it would be traced back to Skully. Was Sonny wearing gloves? Sonny says, no. He was stupid. Jason says he was eighteen. Sonny says he didn’t see it back then, but Skully wanted leverage he could use over him. His dad warned him to stay away from Skully, but he thought knew everything. The last person he was going to listen to was his father.
Mike slinks back into Charlie’s. Julian explains to Kristina that he doesn’t like shots measured with a shot glass. Kristina sees Mike, and wonders what he’s doing there. Julian was about to ask him the same thing. He asks if Mike is alone. Mike says Kristina isn’t supposed to be there. Julian asks if everything is okay, and Kristina thinks Mike just got lost. Mike tells her that she needs to leave, and she asks, what’s going on?
Kristina asks if anyone knows Mike is there, and he’s not sure. Julian says he’ll handle the bar, and Kristina can take care of Mike. She tells Mike to have seat while she calls her dad. Mike says he’s not going to be happy to find out she’s in a bar, especially this one. For some reason, he hates it. Julian smells something. Literally.
Curtis meets Valentin, who asks what he’s got. Curtis tells him that he met the lawyer in the city. He called in some favors, but the less Valentin knows, the better. The lawyer confirmed Madeline hired him, and arranged for her granddaughter to be adopted on the black mark. He knew that Madeline’s daughter was in a coma, and Curtis knew he was telling the truth. He only confirmed the baby was adopted. Aliases were used, and there were no records. Valentin doesn’t buy it, but Curtis says he knows Madeline paid for a nurse to care for Nina, and a doctor to deliver the baby. He thinks it would speed things along if he could question Madeline directly, but Valentin says, that’s a problem. She’s dead.
Nina tells Maxie that she thought about it a million times, but this is the first time she thought it was possible. Maxie asks, how? and Nina says if she didn’t miscarry, the pregnancy would still be viable; it’s been known to happen. Nina had twenty-four-hour care; maybe Madeline let her carry to full term. Maxie says, anything is possible, but does she think it’s likely? Nina says the necklace being divided means something; so does the note. Maxie says in the musical, the pendant doesn’t lead Annie to her parents; it was a swindle. Nina asks if Maxie thinks it might be the final twist of the knife, from her mother from the grave. Maxie thinks Nina is taking Madeline’s death harder than she expected. Maxie suggests they call it a day, get dinner, and watch a movie, to take her mind off things. Nina thinks it sounds great, but doesn’t want to fall behind. Maxie says that’s why the hire people. They decide to start with a drink upstairs. Nina say she has to wrap something up, and will meet Maxie at the elevator. When Maxie leaves, Nina looks at the pendant again, and puts it in her bag. BTW, the pendant is silver. I’d thought it was jade. It must have been reflecting something green when she brought it out the first time. Or they just use whatever half-necklace is available that day.
Brad comes into the MetroCourt with Wiley, and sees Carly and Michael. He tells them Wiley wouldn’t sleep, so he was driving around. Wiley finally zonked out, and Brad decided to get coffee. Carly says it must be true that all kids look alike. Wiley looks just like Michael as a baby. She ask if Brad wants to join them, but he says he’ll take a raincheck. Michael says he was about to open a letter Nelle sent him, and Brad says, no comment. Carly says she told Michael to throw it out. Brad tells Michael that he can’t believe anything Nelle says. Michael thinks the best way to defend himself is to have as much information as possible. He’s aware of Nelle’s manipulation. Her trial is coming up, and the letter might reveal how she’s going to spin things. He starts to read it, and says she mentions Brad.
Curtis says he thought Valentin just saw Madeline, and Valentin says she had a heart attack. Whatever she might have known died with her. Curtis says it wasn’t a cash business, and there must have been wire transfers. There would be a record. Valentin wonders how Curtis could gain access, and Curtis says that’s for him to know and Valentin to reap the benefits of. Curtis says they’ll talk later, and jets.
Walking into the MetroCourt, Maxie says this is exactly what they need; drinks, appetizers, and a chick flick. It will clear their minds of worries. She sees Valentin, and says, or not.
Michael says Nelle mentioned Lucas too. Brad says they had the least interaction with her, and she thinks she can still snow them. Michael reads that Nelle hopes being close to Wiley will help him find peace. Carly wonders what that means, and Brad says, transparency was not Nelle’s suit. He leaves, and heaves a sigh outside. Carly looks at the letter. It says Nelle is using the time to reflect. Carly tells Michael the little bitch says she forgives him.
Jason tells Sonny that people warned him not to work for Sonny. The Quartermaines, Mac, and Robert. Robin looked the other way until Sonny was shot. Sonny remembers Jason asking to be fired, but he refused. Jason says Sonny was his friend, and it’s where he fits and is effective. Sonny says he didn’t care about the power? Jason says he only cared about making his own choices. Sonny respected that when no one else did. Sonny says he thought Skully could give him the same thing; like a mentor. He was also angry at his dad. Whatever Mike said, he would do the opposite. Now hsi dad is blaming himself for moving the body and trying to save him. Right now, Sonny cares more about saving his dad than anything. The phone rings. It’s Kristina.
Kristina tells Sonny that she and grandpa are checking in; they’re at Charlie’s. Sonny says Mike is supposed to be at the hospital. She guesses he got bored, and says she can drive him home, but Sonny would rather come and get him. Sonny asks how he seems. She says he wasn’t crazy about seeing her at Charlie’s, but they’re cool. Sonny tells Jason that Mike isn’t at the hospital. He’s at Charlie’s, and they have to go.
Kristina tells Mike that her dad is on the way there. Mike says, no. He can’t. Nobody is supposed to be there in the middle of the night. Kristina points out that it’s light outside. He says, none of this is right. She tells him, just sit tight, but he says Sonny can’t come there, and starts to freak. He says nobody is supposed to be there. He’s made everything worse.
Julian sees the broken pipe, and runs upstairs.
Kristina sees the wrench, and asks what Mike is doing with that. He says they have to get out, but Kristina tells him that Sonny said to wait there. He says, something is wrong. They shouldn’t be there; no one should be there. Julian announces that everyone has to leave immediately. There’s a gas leak. He says, for their safety, they should go to the basement across the street. Mike says, it’s not supposed to happen like this. Julian helps Kristina get him outside. Mike leaves the wrench under his chair.
Carly says, Nelle is a piece of work. She just keeps coming up with more ways to torture Michael. She reads, if Nelle is ever to seek forgiveness, she has to give forgive those who wronged her. Carly says Michael never wronged her. He did everything could for her and the baby’s sake. She keeps reading. Nelle says she knows Michael is consumed with guilt. If he and Chase hadn’t set up the car crash, it never would have happened. It’s natural to blame himself, but her sincere hope if that he forgives himself. Carly says she can hear her saying all this; it’s classic Nelle, playing the victim. She wants him to take responsibility. He’s not falling for it, right?
Valentin asks how Nina is holding up. She says the same as at the funeral. Valentin says Madeline was heartless and wrong, and he understands why she’s not grieving her death. She’s grieving the mother Madeline never was, and was never going to be. He gets that now. Nina flashes back to the note and the necklace, and says, maybe she tried. Maxie tells Valentin that they’re having a girls’ night. Nina says she needs to discuss something with Valentin, and Maxie gets a table. Nina says the divorce papers were signed. There’s a grace period, and then they’re officially divorced. She says there’s one thing she needs to take care of with him, and gives him her wedding ring set. He says they’re hers, and she says they’re a symbol of a promise to be together forever. A promise she can’t keep.
Julian calls the police. Kristina asks Julian where it’s coming from, and he tells her it’s in the basement. The valve is broken; it’s been tampered with. Charlie’s could blow sky high. Kristina looks at Mike.
Valentin gives Nina the rings back. He says they’re hers; no games. She can put them in a drawer, sell them, or drop them off a cruise ship, but he can’t take them back. He loves her and will till the day he dies. Curtis comes in, and tells Nina, sorry for her loss. He would have been at the funeral, but he was working a case. Nina says he told her that he was doing work for Cassadine Enterprises. She says his professional relationships have no bearing on their friendship, no matter who it’s with.
Julian says there’s a gas leak in the basemen.t Kristina tells Mike sit; she has to check on something. She goes back inside. She coughs, and looks around. She sees the wrench, picks it up, and has a coughing fit. Sonny asks Mike if he’s okay, and Mike says, all the wrong people; they’re not supposed to be there. Sonny says he wandered off while the hospital was doing tests. Mike says he wanted to fix it; he wanted to help. Sonny asks what he was doing there. Mike says he told Kristina not go in; she shouldn’t be there. Sonny asks what he was doing at Charlie’s.
Jason tells Sonny that Julian said it was a gas leak. The shut-off valve is broken, and the fire department is on the way. He says Julian thinks it was deliberate. The lightbulb comes on over Sonny’s head. He says he doesn’t see Kristina. Inside Charlie’s, Kristina trips, and is knocked out.
Carly tells Michael everything is calculated to hurt him. None of it is true. Kim made it clear that the accident didn’t cause the baby’s death. Nelle is lashing out because she’s wrong and she knows it. She’s just trying mess with him. Carly says, don’t give her the satisfaction. Michael thinks he’d like to be alone with this. Carly says she loves him, and they hug. When she’s gone, he looks at letter again, and reads, I hope being close to Brad and Lucas’s little boy can help you find peace. Michael gives a look like, hmm…
Curtis returns to the MetroCourt, and Valentin is surprised he has something already. Curtis says his partner, Sam, has a friend called the Jackal. He’s a brilliant hacker she has on speed dial. He already located a wire transfer near Nina’s due date. Curtis thinks it’s a possible payment. He can’t verify it yet. He wants to be clear that he can’t guarantee results. Valentin can pay for his time, and he can still come up empty. He asks if Valentin still wants him to go through with it. Valentin says, absolutely.
Maxie asks if Nina is sure she’s okay. Nina says she’s fine, and guzzles her wine. Maxie says that convinced no one. If she’s trying to cover, she needs to work harder. Nina admits she loves Valentin. She knows Maxie thinks she’s making excuses for him, but no matter how many times he’s lied, she believes he never did it to hurt her. Maxie says, but he did lie, and break her trust. He intentionally hurt other people. Maxie wonders if Valentin is the reason Nina thinks the baby is alive, but Nina says, no. The necklace and note mean something. She knows her mother. The only interpretation she can come up with, is that the baby lived, and she gave the baby the other side to the heart. Maxie doesn’t want to be cynical, but it might not turn out the way Nina wants. She needs to check on James, and steps away. Nina takes out the necklace. She calls an appraiser, and says she has a piece of jewelry she’d like to know more about.
Sonny asks where Kristina is. Mike tells him that she said she’d be right back; she had to check on something. Jason goes back inside. Sonny tells Mike that Kristina is fine, but Mike says he doesn’t understand. Nobody understands. Julian says Kristina was just right there. Mike says he has to help her, and Sonny says he can’t go in. Mike says she’s his granddaughter, but Sonny holds him back.
Jason sees Kristina on the floor, and picks her up. She tells him get the wrench.
Sonny tells Mike to calm down. Mike says, if anything happens… and Sonny says, Kristina will be fine. Mike says Sonny doesn’t understand. It’s all his fault. They hear an explosion.
Tomorrow, Margaux invites Drew to join her, Chase asks Julian if he’s sure what caused it, Jason tells someone not to say a word, and Mike agonizes over what he’s done.

We flash back to Shannon storming out of everywhere. Gina says Tamra has to tell Shannon what’s on her mind, even if it pisses her off. If it upsets her, then Tamra has to reevaluate the friendship. The doctor told him he could have a stroke, and he literally walked out. She found him on the phone asking why God was doing this, and told her that he was talking to her God. In her interview, Tamra says she tries to stay strong, but when she prays, the answer never comes; it just gets worse. She’s being a good person, and doing the right thing. Where’s God then? Well, Tamra, there are many possibilities here, which is why you need to talk to other Christians, and discuss these things with them. It’s possible your faith is being tested, or maybe the answer to your prayer is no. And while God’s love isn’t based on how good you are, are you kidding about being “a good person?” Because I haven’t seen very Christianlike behavior from you for the most part. Sorry. I couldn’t help the mini lecture. Shannon apologizes for not being there for Tamra. Tamra says it’s hard for her to express her emotions, but Shannon says she’s doing a good job, and hugs her.

It’s the first time they’ve been able to enjoy the house and the yard.
The guests arrive. In her interview, Tamra says after everything they’ve gone through, it’s nice to enjoy life a little. Shane introduces himself to Gina. In her interview, Gina says it’s a little awkward. She’s never formally met him.
Shannon gets out of the car, saying she’s wearing one hooker heel and one boot. Kelly tells her, keep it rollin’. Tamra’s mom asks if she was chewing gum while she was walking, since she is blonde. Tamra says Sandy is a bitch. That’s where she gets it from. Kelly says she can’t stand Steve. He’s friends with her ex. She says Vicki is more of a man than he is. In her interview, Kelly says Steve obviously doesn’t like her. He talked to Page Six, and is on Michael’s side, even though she did nothing to him. We see an article where Steve blabbed about Kelly’s argument with Vicki over the double-date. They make fun of Eddie’s pictures. Kelly is uncomfortable with Steve there, and Vicki says she has lots of people to talk to. In her interview, Vicki says Kelly started it by calling Steve a d-bag on social media. We see a tweet, and yes, she did.
Inside, Gina tells Emily that she’s having problems with Matt. More time apart is highlighting how different they are. In her interview, Gina says things with them are cliché. They married young and had babies, which was the norm where they came from. When you move, you see the world away from the pre-designed box. It opens you mind to possibilities. Emily understands. In her interview, Emily sympathizes, saying marriage is hard, even under the best circumstances and you’re getting along. It probably doesn’t help to be separated so much. Gina says she feels different.
Vicki asks if everything is good, and Gina says she’s having a hard time with Matt. Since he’s gone, you’d think it would be harder, but she’s realizing she’s okay. Vicki says she gave up too quick with her own marriage, instead of working it out. If she could do it over, she’d make it work. In her interview, Vicki says she’s learned a lot of life lessons. Marriage is work, but figure it out. They have three small babies.
Shannon and Kelly see Shane talking to Steve. Kelly wants to talk to Steve about the Page Six thing, and Shannon tells her to be non-confrontational, so she can get her point across. It’s a valid one. Kelly just want to know why a sixty-year-old man is acting like a little bitch. Shannon tells her not to say that. In her interview, Shannon says Kelly has a history of being confrontational, and we flash back to that. Shannon says if she speaks to Steve calmly, maybe he can hear why she’s hurting and upset.
Kelly approaches Steve. She says she doesn’t want to make a big deal, but what he said on social media upset her. He says he doesn’t follow it. She says it was on Page Six, and he doesn’t know what he said? She says she can bring it up on her phone, and he says she’s drunk. She says this is the first drink she’s had. Is he says he didn’t do it? He tells her to take the drama somewhere else. Shane asks if she has something to complain about, why didn’t she bring it? She says she never sees Steve, who has already wandered off, after seriously acting stupid.
Shane continues that trend, wondering why she’s making a big deal out of something he knows nothing about. Vicki asks Steve what Kelly said, and he tells Vicki that Kelly just wants to argue, and he won’t play her game. Vicki says, good; don’t drink her Kool-Aid. In a rare moment, I’m with Shannon on this one. Kelly has a valid point, and she approached Steve respectfully. In her interview, Vicki wonders what Kelly is thinking, bringing Steve into this. It’s childish and it hurts her feelings. Kelly is being disrespectful. A double what? Steve’s the one who said it.
Shannon joins Kelly, and Shane doesn’t understand why Kelly is making a big deal out of it. She says she didn’t want to, and wonders why he’s getting involved. He calls her drunk, but Shannon says she’s not. He asks if this is her normal behavior, and Kelly tells him to mind his own business, calling him a dork and a loser. Kelly walks over to Emily, and tells her that first, she gets called a drunk, and then this guy, meaning Shane, asks if it’s her normal behavior. She tells Emily that dude is a little bitch, and Emily says that’s her husband. Kelly says she had no idea, but he’s over there sticking up for Steve. He had no business opening his mouth. Shane appears, and says Kelly shouldn’t have come to his table. She asks if this is his house and is his name engraved on the table. She calls him a little bitch, and Emily tells Kelly not to talk to her husband like that. Kelly says he’s a little bitch, and Emily gets furious. She gets in Kelly’s face, pointing her finger. Kelly tells Emily to go ahead and hit her, and Gina gets in between them. Emily tells Kelly to stay away from her, and calls her something that gets bleeped. Kelly looks pretty surprised.
Just for the record, if someone called my husband a little bitch, I’d ask him what he did.
Next time, Tamra wonders what’s happening, Steve talks and bullsh*t walks, Vicki says Kelly fights dirty, and the return of Dr. Moon.
🙋 That was Quick…
I guess Gina really did feel different.
🍎 Hope It’s a Good One…

🚶 It’s Already a Long Week…
