What I Watched Today
(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)
General Hospital
Michael sits next to Sonny at the MetroCourt bar. Sonny says he thought Michael was Jax. Everywhere he goes, Jax is there. It’s like he’s tripping over Jax. He knows how Michael feels, but Jax gets on his nerves. Michael tells him, don’t look over there. Sonny says, don’t tell him.
Jax thanks Alexis for seeing him. She says she heard he’s now proud half-owner of Aurora Media. Jax says, not just yet. Even though the contract has been signed, he wants to make sure the I’s are dotted, and the T’s crossed. He’s like to retain her services, and have her go over the document. She tells him, it’s on the house.
Sasha tells Nina that she’s waiting on the numbers that are being crunched. She can call Michael and reschedule their dinner, but Nina says she’s not canceling her night out for the meeting. Jax doesn’t really need the numbers; she’s just trying to impress him. Jax already said he believes in her. She’s going to love working with this guy. At the door, Valentin overhears her.
Elizabeth asks how Jordan is feeling. Jordan bets Elizabeth wishes she was assisting a different patient, and Elizabeth asks if Jordan wishes she had a different nurse. Jordan says she doesn’t.
Ava puts sunflowers at Kiki’s grave, and says, happy birthday. Franco joins her.
Finn says he knows Curtis is scared that time is running out. Curtis says he’s pissed that someone who’s able bodied could end Jordan’s suffering, and won’t. He says they could forge Ryan’s signature. Finn says, or they could make sure when he’s under the knife, he never wakes up.
Ryan sees Doc standing over him, and says, hello brother. He didn’t mean to leave Doc hanging. (BA-DUM-CHH!) Doc says Ryan attempted to steal the show at the Nurses Ball. Ryan says, lucky Doc that someone cut him down. Doc says he isn’t lucky. He has people who care if he lives or dies. Can Ryan say the same?
Valentin goes into Nina’s office. She jokes that he walked in on serious meeting preparations. She tells Sasha not to cancel; she’s got this. Valentin tells Nina to cancel her meeting. He has tickets for something or other. She says he’s trying to make it hard on her, and he says, yes; he is.
Michael tells Sonny that Josslyn needs her father right now, and Sonny says he respects that. He’s trying everything to avoid Jax, and to Jax’s credit, he’s doing everything to avoid Sonny, but Jax rubs him the wrong way. He’s planning on staying in Port Charles. Does Michael think he can change Jax’s mind? Maybe there’s a job opportunity to send him to Siberia. Michael says, some people just don’t like each other, and that’s fine, but Jax and Sonny have something major in common. Sonny says, Michael, his mom, and Josslyn, and Michael says, exactly. And Sonny and Jax are strong enough to love them, even though they can’t stand each other. For family’s sake, Sonny will put up with anything. Sonny agrees, and Michael says, hold that thought. His date just arrived. He goes over to meet Sasha.
Alexis tells Jax that it’s silly to pay for something that’s already done. He says he’ll get Diane, and she says, don’t you dare. He can pay her market rate; no Jasper Jax exorbitant fee. He consents to her offer on one condition; fill him in on Valentin.
Valentin says Nina told him that Jax was great and fair. Why the big pitch on day one? She should play hard to get; make Jax do the dirty work. She says Valentin just wants to whisk her away and be fabulous, and on any other day, she’d go along with it. He says, it was worth a try. She says he’s incredible, and kisses him.
Franco also has sunflowers, and Ava says, of course he would remember. Franco lays them at the grave, and says, happy birthday. Ava says she misses Kiki so much, and he says, him too. He’s glad to see Ava out and about, and not behind bars. She says Julian and Scotty convinced her to plead not guilty. He says, smart move, but she says it’s no guarantee she’ll walk or not spend time in Ferncliff. He says he saw Ryan, and she asks how that went. He says how she would imagine. She says Franco let him live? and he says, that’s the word on the street. She says, that’s okay. It means she has another chance to kill him, and the next time, she won’t fail.
Curtis tells Finn that he doesn’t give a damn. His only concern is his wife. He’ll cross any line and break any law. It doesn’t matter, as long as she lives. Finn agrees that the world would be a better place without Ryan, but would Jordan want this? Curtis says, as long as she lives.
Ryan says he’s still appreciated by the only person who matters, and Doc says, Ava despises him. Ryan says, love, hate, they’re two sides of the same coin. Doc says she plunged a knife in his back, and Ryan says, it’s called passion. Doc says, or attempted murder. Ryan says Ava still wants him, and Doc says even he’s starting to wonder what it’s like being that narcissistic. Ryan says, tell him, healer of all things evil. Doc admits he messed up, but now he understands some evil can’t be cured, even by him. But if there is a shred of justice, Ryan will pay for what he’s done, and if there’s a hell, he’ll burn in it. Ryan says, maybe, but it won’t be Doc who sends him there. Doc says, don’t be so sure.
Ryan says neither one of them have any intention of killing the other. They’ve both had ample opportunity. They need each other. Without him, Doc is an ordinary psychiatrist, living an ordinary life. With him, he’s kind of interesting. Without Doc, Ryan is a fascinating chapter in the history of serial crime. With Doc, he’s the evil twin. He’s Satan to Doc’s shrink. Doc says he has no interest in seeing Ryan dead. He wants Ryan to live, so he knows how little he’s going to matter or be remembered. He’s no chapter in anyone’s book. He’s a footnote to be forgotten. Soon too. He leaves, and Ryan looks a little worried about that.
Sasha apologizes to Michael for being late, but he says he ran into his father; it’s all good. Sasha says, Nina is losing her mind because some bigwig bought Crimson. She thinks Michael knows him; tall, blond, and Australian accent? Michael says Jax was his stepfather, and he’s Joslynn’s father. Sasha says now he’s the owner of Crimson. He bought half of Aurora Media. Michael says, huh, and she asks if that’s a good huh or a bad huh. He says, good for Crimson. Jax is a good businessman, Jax and his dad don’t get along. They have opposite personalities; both to life and business. They love the same woman, and help raise their kids together, but now Jax will be living in Port Charles. Things are about to get really complicated.
Jax tells Alexis that she already warned him how dangerous Valentin is. She says, he’s seriously dangerous because he’s got the Cassadine smarts, but not the crazy. He knows how to maintain, and he’s filthy rich; an evil billionaire. Not like Jax, who’s a charming billionaire. Jax says he loves her, but she tends to see him as better than he is; more naïve than he is. He’s done business all over the world. and gotten pretty good at seeing the competition coming. He thanks her for the warning, and says, noted, but he’s not worried. She says he never is. A delivery guy gives Jax a huge bag of food, and his eyes light up at the tip. Alexis says he ordered food from another restaurant, and had it delivered to the MetroCourt? He says he knew Carly wasn’t working tonight. Neil comes over to their table, and Jax says it’s good to see him again. Jax has to go, and jets. Neil says he’s never seen exes on such great terms. How do they do it? Alexis wonders if he’s asking as a therapist or is he just curious?
Nina tells Valentin he needs to go before her new boss walks in on something inappropriate. Valentin says he’ll go if she agrees to a late night supper by the fire. She says, it’s too hot for a fire, but he says he’ll put on the air conditioning. She says he’s on. Jax arrives, saying, he’s sorry to interrupt. Nina knows they’ve met, and Valentin says he’ll leave them to it. Jax says he hopes Nina likes Indian food. She hopes he has naan in there, and he says you can’t have Indian food without it. Valentin hears them talking about the merits of Indian food, as he gets in the elevator.
Nina says she’d like to talk about him slashing the Crimson budget. He says he’s not slashing the budget, just moving money around. She says, in that case, she’d like to ask for more money – if she raises circulation. He asks, how much more? She says, less than she was asking in the beginning, and Jax says, but more than he wants to give. What if circulation doesn’t pick up? She says, it will, but he says, what if it doesn’t? She says, then she’ll accept his cuts. He asks what kind of time frame, and she says, two months. She thinks the September issue is going to be a game changer. He says she’ll need something big then, and she says, she’ll find it. He says, okay.
Valentin sits next to Sonny at the bar, and asks if Sonny’s got a moment. Sonny says, not really, but Valentin says he was hoping to discuss Jasper Jax.
Sasha says, interesting. Michael has obviously spent time with both Jax and his dad, and he comes off as a combination of the two. At the Nurses Ball, there was clearly something going on with Willow, and he was taking care of her. The look in his eyes was like ice. She assumes he learned that from Sonny. He says his mom and Jax were married a long time when he was a kid. He’d like to think it was a big influence in the way he does business and carries himself, but his dad is his dad. Sonny taught him too. He laughs, and says for someone who conveys herself as easy going and looking for good time… Sasha says, shallow? He says, no perceptive. It’s not every day someone sees that in him. Most people don’t have the time to look that close to what they may or may not find intriguing. She says it’s a little bit intriguing sometimes, but the deeper she digs, the more she likes him. He says, good. He likes her too.
Neil tells Alexis that he was being presumptuous, and not professional. She says she was just kidding. Lots of people are impressed. Her relationship with Jax is extraordinary. It’s ironic that the one man she’s in a good relationship with, the relationship was never consummated. They were both involved with other people. Neil says, interesting. She says, in any case, she’s glad he’s still in her life. They think the world of each other. Neil starts to say something, but then tells her, never mind. She asks if this counts as a session, but he says he brought it up, and it’s a grey area. He suggests they talk about Kristina.
Ava tells Franco that Ryan murdered her daughter. No one or nothing is going to stop her until she knows he’s dead. As much as that makes Franco tingle inside, thinking of offing Ryan, he’s glad she didn’t, and hopes she doesn’t. She doesn’t understand. Their girl is in the ground, and he needs to answer for that want. Franco wants him to pay a million ways, but not until he saves Jordan’s life. He doesn’t think it’s going to happen, but if there’s even just a chance that all of this relentless death, bitterness, and loss can turn into something good, he’d like to see a life changed. He wants that to happen for Kiki. He needs that.
Finn sits next to Doc on a bench in the hospital hallway. Doc says he did everything he could for his brother; helped hide him from the authorities and treated his psychosis. He was convinced he was the only person in the world who could bring out the humanity in Ryan. The joke is him – there isn’t any. There never was. Now, all he wants is for his brother to be gone. What kind of doctor does that make him? Finn says he always thought the Hippocratic Oath seemed open to interpretation. Do no harm means doing everything you can to help. The more he thinks about it, the more he’s convinced that the two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Jax says he’s looking forward to Nina upping the circulation, and she says she’s looking forward to keeping her budget intact. She thanks him for dinner, and he says, anytime.
Sonny asks what Valentin knows about Jax; why is he suddenly interested. Valentin says Jax is Nina’s new boss. He acquired part of Aurora Media. He finds it confusing, since Jax has no history of being involved in publishing. He asks if Sonny has done any joint business ventures with Jax. Sonny says they were both involved with ELQ once, but they’ve done no real business together. What about Valentin? Valentin says no. He thinks they’d be equally served if Jax’s work took him back to the other side of the globe. Sonny can’t say that, but Valentin tells him, it’s something to think about.
Alexis tells Neil that Sam was able to get the Pledges, including Kristina’s. The secret wasn’t about Sonny; it was about her. Neil asks if that bothers her. She says Sonny has a thousand more skeletons in his closet, but to Kristina, her father can do no wrong. She’s Kristina’s punching bag. She’d never accuse or blame Sonny for anything. She and Kristina have a giant toxic problem with communication and the understanding of each other that they can’t seem to overcome. Neil assumes there’s resentment, and Alexis says, on Kristina’s part, absolutely. He asks, what about hers? She resents it, but honestly doesn’t know what to do about it.
Franco tells Ava that when he was at one of his many low points in life, he was about to destroy the artwork he’d done during a dark time. Kiki stopped him. She challenged him to take the darkest parts of himself, and redirect them. She pulled him out of a self-destructive spiral. He wants to pay it forward, and do the same for Ava. Ava says he wants her to let the vengeance thing go, and let the authorities deal with Ryan, and get on with her life? Sorry. She just can’t do that. She kisses her fingers, touches the tombstone, and leaves.
Valerie goes to Jordan’s hospital room, but Elizabeth tells her, no more visitors. Jordan asks if Valerie can be an exception, and Valerie promises not to take long. Elizabeth agrees, and Valerie comes in. She asks how Jordan is holding up, and she says she’s trying hard be strong, and save her end dignity Valerie says, it’s not the end. Jordan says she also wants to hang on until the last second. She has too much good in her life. How does she say goodbye? Valerie says she doesn’t. Jordan is far too important to her – to everyone – she can’t die when there’s a person who can save her life. Jordan agrees, but Ryan has to give the kidney to her. She appreciates the sentiment though. Valerie says she still has time, and tells Jordan that she has to go before she gets in trouble. She says, get better, and Jordan says she’s working on it.
Valerie sees Curtis in the hallway. She hugs him and cries.
Valentin goes back to Nina’s office. Nina says she thought they were meeting at home, but he thought he would escort her home. She tells him about the meeting, and he asks how long she has to increase circulation. She says, three months, and he says that’s not a lot of time. She asks if he doesn’t think she can do it, but he says he knows she can, and he’ll help in any way he can. She says she’s glad to hear him say that. She needs a favor. They have to postpone wedding.
Neil asks if Alexis has any idea what the secret is, but Alexis says Kristina burned it. It appeared to be cathartic for Kristina; her, not so much. Neil asks if she has any clue what it was, and she says her sins are a matter of public record. She asks if the definition of insanity isn’t doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. How about if she changes her tactic? Instead of not saying anything for a long period, and then blowing up, maybe she should tell Kristina how she feels, and ask point blank what the secret was. Neil thinks that would be a mistake. Kristina is just piecing her life back together, and isn’t ready. If Alexis pushes too hard, too fast, she’ll lose Kristina.
Ava sees Doc, and asks how the patient is. He says, Ryan or Jordan? and she says, both. He says, Ryan will live; he’s not sure about Jordan. He’s very relieved she wasn’t Ryan’s next victim. He guesses this is where they break up, and she says, it’s not you; it’s me. He laughs, and asks if she needs anything like a statement. She says the judge already has one. He’s gone above and beyond, and she won’t ever forget it. He takes her hand, and says, neither will he. He leaves, and she watches him go.
Jordan wants Curtis to know, if she loses the fight, she loves him. She’s loved being his wife, and doesn’t regret a day; not even how long it took them to get together. That’s what made it so sweet when they finally did. He says, it ain’t over, okay? They’re doing everything they can; not just him. Finn walks in, and says, Curtis is right. They’re not giving up. She says her body is shutting down; she can feel it. Realistically, how much time does she have? He says there’s still a chance they’ll find a donor. Every possibility is being pursued. She says he’s a great doctor, but a terrible liar.
Valentin says Nina want to postpone the wedding? She says she doesn’t want to, but Crimson needs her undivided attention. He’d do the same thing if it was his baby that he worked so hard on. He supposes he would. She thinks September is a beautiful month in Port Charles. They’ll be relaxed, and she can focus on the wedding. Sasha can also stay longer. Valentin says, if it’s what she wants, he’ll make it happen. She says she loves him. Trust her; he won’t regret this.
Sonny runs into Jax at the elevator, and says he heard some news. Jax is taking everyone out on his yacht this weekend. Jax says Sonny is more than welcome to join them. Sonny is sure Michael, Carly, and especially Josslyn, will have a good time. Jax says they have all summer. Perhaps another time. They part company, and Sonny smiles and shakes his head as he gets in the elevator.
Alexis tells Neil that she’ll follow his recommendation. She can see he really cares about Kristina. Maybe he’s not as objective as he claims. He says his time is up, and thinks it’s best they keep sessions in the office. He tells her goodnight. When he’s gone, Alexis takes out her iPad. She looks for Neil on Spyder Finder.
Sasha thanks Michael for dinner. They agree that they had fun, and don’t want it to end. Michael suggests a late movie or a walk in the park. Dessert? She say they already had dessert. What she really wants is an after dinner drink. Michael says they could head to the bar, but she says, actually, she was thinking room service. They both get up, and head out.
Alexis looks at Neil’s picture, and a list of his publications. She sees a dedication to his wife and daughter.
Jordan sleeps. Curtis says she’s not going anywhere. Not on his watch.
Elizabeth watches through the window in Jordan’s room. Finn sees her, and asks if she’s okay. She asks, in what universe, does someone like Ryan get to live, and someone like Jordan has to die? She leaves, and Finn takes her place at the window.
Doc’s phone rings. He answers, and says he knows it’s better this way.
Ryan sleeps. Someone comes into his room and stands over him. They’re so loud, I’m surprised he doesn’t wake up. They prepare an injection, and put it in his IV.
Tomorrow, Cameron tells Joslynn that music can help express things you can’t say, Franco says sometimes the end justifies the means, and Finn has bad news about Ryan.
Below Deck Mediterranean
Oh yay. A new cast (mostly), so new names to learn. João is now the bosun, and the Sirocco has a female chef, Mila. Sandy says she’s kind, but the last two seasons have hardened her. We meet the new crew, and see some clips of what’s to come. Someone is going to be let go. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be João.
The French Riviera near Antibes. Captain Sandy says it’s the yachting capital of the Western Mediterranean, and there’s a lot of competition. She meets with Hannah, who admits she should have communicated more last season. The captain wants more people on service. No guest should have to go looking for someone. She shows Hannah the new crew members’ resumés.
João’s priority this season is to work. He and Hannah have resolved their issues during the break, and he also had some experience being a bosun. Mila arrives, and introduces herself to Hannah. She was born in Siberia, worked in restaurants, and thought, why not? So she moved to Paris, and worked with the best chefs in the world. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she has high hopes a female chef with the best training.
Travis gets there next, followed by Anastasia, who knows Russian. Even though she grew up in the US, she was born in the Republic of Georgia. Jack joins them. He’s from Liverpool, and worked abroad for ten years. Colin appears, but we already know him. He says he has more confidence in himself this season. It means a lot that the captain is having him back. Aesha is next. She loves a challenge. Colin is excited to have João as bosun. They have a hardcore bromance; bruteruses before uteruses. Whatever that means.
Mila goes through the galley, and throws out a bunch of rotten stuff. She says she’s tired of cleaning up after everyone else, so I guess this happens a lot. Travis calls the captain by her first name, and she has to tell him that she’s called captain. In his interview, he says, if you want the honest truth, his mates would call him a d*ckhead. Something to look forward to. Captain Sandy calls the first crew meeting.
She wants them to feel like they’re a team, and introduces First Officer Casey and Chief Engineer Mike. We’ll probably never see them again. She tells the crew there’s a hierarchy. In her interview, the captains says in the last seasons, she showed the crew that they could approach her as a human being. Now, they have to earn her trust, and they can thank those who came before them. She tells them, if she wakes up thinking about them, it’s usually their last day on board. She welcomes them, and tells them, get to work. The provisions are on the dock.
Mila says it’s a poorly organized boat with a small storage space. In other words, a pain in the ass. It doesn’t look like Jack likes working too hard. Hannah goes over the food with Mila, who excuses herself to get sick. She has food poisoning, and in her interview, says she doesn’t know why she ordered the shrimp pasta. In his interview, Australian Travis tells us that where he lives is rife with meth, and has the highest incarceration rate in the country. Hannah can’t believe Mila is sick on day one. If there’s one person they can’t live without, it’s the chef. Hannah tells Captain Sandy that she can be the chef, and the captain can be chief stew. Captain Sandy says she’ll make the toast, referring to the toast incident of last season.
The stews and deckhands meet separately. Jack says he was a marine engineer in the Merchant Navy. Hannah goes over the schedule. Anastasia says she works best when someone is clear and direct. In her interview, Anastasia says she’s always worried people won’t like her. She’s a perfectionist and people-pleaser. Travis is made lead deckhand. João wants to tell them not to screw the crew, but as long as it doesn’t interfere with the work, he doesn’t care.
In Mila’s interview, she says she tried her tried best not to show she was sick, but she can’t do anything about it. She climbs into her bunk. Colin tells João that Jamie is in Florida, and Brooke is in Canada. In his interview, João says he and Brooke went to Zimbabwe together, and it seemed perfect, but she cheated on him. He still wanted to make it work, but she didn’t. I’m guessing there must be more to that story.
It’s the first preference sheet meeting. Captain Sandy asks Mila if she can join them. Their first primary is Jay, a luxury mortgage broker, and an eligible bachelor. Hannah asks why everyone is looking at her. He’s being joined by his friends John and Carol, who is having a birthday, and Steve and Dana. They’ve requested a picnic, and some town exploration. The captain says Jay wants to check out the old town of Nice. In her interview, Hannah says Mila can’t even sit through a meeting, and they pick up the guests in less than 24 hours. It’s scary. Speaking from experience, she should be done with it by then. And yeah, it totally sux.
In Travis’s interview, he says, it’s not so bad. Hannah is sexy and rack city. What? Who uses an expression like that? He and Jack both seem like losers in their own ways. The crew readies the boat, and then relaxes. Hannah thinks it was a productive day. In her interview, Aesha says she grew up in a household where sex was hush-hush, so she’s ready to mingle. João tells Hanna that the others have more industry time, and he’s worried about that. We flash back to one of his altercations with Conrad last season. Hanna tells him that she never said he was sh*t at his job. In her interview, she says João apologized between seasons, and she’s always up for d-bags changing themselves.
Captain Sandy asks if Mila would like help. In the captain’s interview, she says she’s nervous, but Mila has experience as a chef. She explains that if the crew has other skills, you pull from the team if need be. She asks Anastasia to help. Anastasia says her mom was a chef, and she was a yachting chef for a while. Why she’s choosing to serve drinks and make beds now is a mystery. João explains the slide to the deckhands. Captain Sandy pronounces the boat looking great. It’s thirty minutes to charter, and the crew changes to greet the guests. The captain tells Jack to do something about his hair, which is long and unruly. Champagne is poured, and the crew lines up on the dock.
Captain Sandy welcomes the guests. She say after Hannah shows them the boat, they’ll head to Nice. Hannah gives the tour. When pointing out a decorative piece in one of the suites, she finds out she’s mistakenly been calling a gong, a dong, Jay corrects her, and she realizes she’s been looking like a jerk. It’s time to pull out, so the captain tells the crew, no radio. Returning to the crew’s baseball reference roots, João wants to prove he can smash it out of the park, but even a small miscalculation can ruin everything.
Travis says he’s team oriented. If a crew member is lazy, it makes the others have to work harder. They clear the dock, and head out into the blue water. Captain Sandy says, well done. Hannah suggests a walk in town after lunch. The yacht is anchored. In her interview, Captain Sandy says the anchors on this boat are her arch nemesis. We see flashbacks of that. Jay says he wouldn’t mind having their job. He’s apparently never seen the show. The captain says she brought João back because of his work ethic, but she’ll be watching his ego this season. Mila says she no longer feels sick, but feels weak from not eating.
Travis believes respect is due to Captain Sandy. He’s always called his captains by their first name, but she corrected him in a nice way. Jack and Anastasia are going to Nice with the guests. Lunch is served. In her interview, Mila says she used to play professional poker. Taking a dude’s money and beating them makes her feel good. It’s like a guest saying they’re blown away by the food. The guests dig in, and one says they’ll never be able to go to McDonald’s again. Sandy asks the guests how lunch was, and Jay says, the best ever. João tells Jack about the excursion with the guests, and Jack says he’ll be there like swimwear. Mila has requested they pick up milk while in town.
Once on land, the guests lead the way. Jack lived there for six months, and points out various details as they walk through the city.
In his interview, João says Sandy gave him the drive to be a bosun. Now it’s up to him to prove he’s worthy. He thinks Travis will lighten the load. Anastasia tries find a supermarket with Jack, while the guests do their own thing. By the appointed meeting time, they still haven’t found milk, and the guests stand around waiting. Jack calls João, and asks if he wants to come pick up the guests first, then come back for them. In João’s interview, he says, rule number one: never leave the guests behind. Anastasia doesn’t know where they are, and Jack suggests Google maps. João arrives to pick up the guests. Jack and Anastasia have finally found a supermarket, and call João, but João says he’s on the dock, and he’ll come back for them. Jack tells Anastasia, at least they don’t have the stress of guests.
Dinner is prepared. The guests are met with cool towels. Travis takes the boat back to pick up Jack and Anastasia. Jack asks if Anastasia has a boyfriend, and she tells him she does. The relationship is three months old. Hannah asks Aesha how the laundry going. The guests use the slide, and Captain Sandy asks how Mila is feeling. She sees Mila making tacos, and thinks they’re for the crew. In her interview, the captain says, seeing tacos is disturbing, but she’s giving Mila the benefit of the doubt because she’s been sick. She’s thinking of Mila’s resumé, and hoping for the best.
The table is set for dinner. João tells Jack that he has to stick with the guests. In Jack’s interview, he says he learned his lesson. Charter guests come first. I always love the table decorations, and this one is in earth tones, with a candle in the center, and sand and rocks radiating out from it. In her interview, Mila says she’s making an all Mexican starter. It’s what he guests are asking for, and she has to give them what they want. Anastasia is like, wtf? when she sees the nacho chips, which admittedly, don’t look appetizing. In Hannah’s interview, she says in the nine years she’s worked in yachting, she’s never refused to take a dish out, but she can’t serve this to the guests. She gives them everything but the chips. She thinks the guests are being polite, but she’s embarrassed to give the food to them. She goes back to the galley, and stares at the chips. She tells Mila that she thinks the guests have had enough. Maybe they shouldn’t serve the nachos. It actually did seem like a lot of food for a starter. Mila is already plating the steaks for the entrée, and Hannah says the guests still have a plate in front of them.
Oh. My. God. Mila is using the microwave to reheat the steaks. Even I know better. Gordon Ramsay would hit the roof. Hannah realizes what Mila is doing, and runs after her. Jay says he’s an amazing heater of food. In her interview, Hannah says she’s never seen a chef put steaks in a microwave. She tells Mila not to rush.
This season, dancing, drinking, jet skiing; a guest gets overly excited about the slide; Captain Sandy isn’t happy with the interior; João has to set an example; João and Travis have an issue; the crew gets busy – with each other; Mila doesn’t want her son to see two men kissing; João tells someone, it’s a fire-able offense; an accident involving the anchor; and when in France…
👍 Best quote to come: The French Riviera is different from the rest of the Med because it’s full of French people. – Jack
👯 Don’t forget, Dance Moms begins Tuesday, June 4th, at 8 pm with The Return of Abby, and then the season premiere at 9 pm.
💍 Since it’s my favorite franchise on TV, I checked out 90 Day Fiancé’s new offering, The Other Way, where the American fiancé moves to another country be with the one they love. I was pleasantly surprised to find that crazy ass Paul, who was originally on Before the 90 Days, is part of the cast. Although she miscarried their first child, Karine is now pregnant again, and Paul has impulsively decided to move to Brazil, against the advice of just about everyone on the planet. It looks like he’s going to be denied citizenship because of terrorism being on his criminal record. Ruh-roh. My favorite branch of the 90 tree, however, is Pillow Talk, where cast members of one show make comments while watching the shows of their castmates. Much like People’s Couch before it, I find the commentary very funny, and I love seeing a side of some cast members that I haven’t seen before. Who knew Annie and David had such great senses of humor? The only thing I like better than watching TV, is watching other people watch TV.
