What I Watched Today
(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)
General Hospital
Jax’s phone rings, and Michael tells him, Nina is at the gatehouse; she’s with Wiley. Satisfied? Jax thanks him, but Michael says, don’t. Just keep his end of the bargain. Nobody can know about him and Willow. Jax says they’ve known each other for a long time. If he thought Nina was a threat to Wiley, he’d have never asked Michael to do this. Michael says, Jax didn’t ask him; Jax blackmailed him. He threatened to break Chase’s heart while he’s flat on his back in the hospital. He needs Jax to understand something. He may have brought Nina back into Wiley’s life, but Jax is out of his. He hangs up, leaving Jax talking to himself.
Nina holds Wiley and says she loves him so much, and always will. From now on, Grandma Nina is going to spend lots and lots of time with him. Carly stands in the doorway, shaking her head. Nina turns around, and Carly says, hello, Nina. Nina tells Wiley, look, Grandma Carly is here too. Isn’t that nice?
TJ and Molly see Stella at the hospital, and give her a hug. TJ says they’ve missed her, and Stella says she has a phone. They could call more. She wants to hear all about their domestic partnership celebration, and their lives. She wants to hear about everything that’s happening with them.
Shawn is going through some books at the library, when Alexis says she has a question for him. He says, hello to her too, and she says, sorry. Hello Shawn. Can he tell her the date of his original sentencing? He says he can. Why does she want to know? She says she may have been disbarred, but she still thinks like a lawyer. She has some questions that are nagging at her about why he was denied parole. He says his stabbing of Jason came up during the review. He claimed self-defense, but so did Jason. It was a case of he said, he said, but he could tell the Board wasn’t persuaded. She says, which makes her even more furious, and curious, about his original sentencing. She says she’s working on a project to keep her occupied, and he asks if she’s sure she’s not trying to stir things up. She says it’s her they’re talking about. Of course (🍷) she’s trying to stir things up.
Maxie opens the door to Bobbie, and apologizes for forgetting to call her. Bobbie says she already speaks to Maxie’s mom on a regular basis, and Felicia told her everything that’s been happening to Maxie. Maxie says, Bobbie didn’t tell Felicia, did she? Bobbie says, that she was secretly going to help Maxie deliver in Beecher’s Corners before she was kidnapped? No. That would have just upset Felicia more. What’s the point? Maxie thanks Bobbie, and hugs her, and Bobbie says she’s just upset about everything that’s happened to Maxie. Maxie’s biggest fear was that Peter was going to come between her and her baby, and that’s what happened.
Finn dashes out of the elevator, and Elizabeth says Chase needs him. They go into Chase’s room, and Chase says, it’s about time they got there. Finn tells him, the tech said it was urgent. Did he have another reaction, or is he getting better? Chase says, he’s still weak and his body feels like crap, and Elizabeth says, but he’s still smiling? Chase says, mentally, he’s fantastic. He hasn’t felt this excited in weeks. Brook comes in, and asks if there’s room for one more. Chase says, her timing, as always, is perfect, and she says she’s never heard that. What’s up? Chase says he was just about to make a big announcement. He asked Willow to marry him, and she said yes. Everyone smiles.
Carly asks Wiley for a hug, and Nina says, there are plenty of hugs to go around. Carly says, it’s super late. Where is his daddy? and Nina says Michael left her alone to get reacquainted with Wiley; he’s upstairs. Michael comes down, and says he wasn’t expecting Carly to come over tonight. She says she came by to see her grandson. She didn’t realize how late it was. She thinks Wiley is ready for dreamland. Michael says maybe she’s right, and tells Wiley to say goodnight to Grandma Carly and Grandma Nina. Nina tells Wiley, hopefully, she’ll see him again soon, and Carly says she loves him. Sleep well. Michael takes Wiley upstairs, and Nina says she’s grateful to Michael for allowing her to visit. Carly says, Michael is very generous, no question, but he didn’t have a choice. Jax was pressuring him.
Molly says she’s been studying for the bar, and Stella says she admires both of their dedication, but it would be a shame to neglect their relationship. TJ says they’ve become masters at juggling their schedules. Even if it’s just an hour every day, they make time to be together. Stella says, it’s good to see where their priorities lie. Explain how it is that his mother and Curtis can sit these life or death vigils by each other’s bedsides, but can’t make their marriage work? It makes no sense. Jordan joins them, and says, just because she and Curtis don’t want each other to die, doesn’t mean they can live together. Molly tells TJ, they should probably get going, and TJ says they’re going to Pentenville to visit their parents. Stella says she heard about Alexis, and she’s so sorry, but TJ has no time to be visiting Pentenville. TJ says he just told her, they’re brilliant at managing schedules. Jordan tells them to go ahead, and TJ says he hopes Stella is in town long enough to have a real visit this time. She says he can count on it, and he and Molly leave. Jordan says she can tell Stella is biting her tongue. Go ahead and say what’s on her mind. Stella says she’s gone for ten minutes, and the family falls apart. What has Jordan let happen to her life?
Alexis tells Shawn, her mind fixates on seemingly minor details. Molly is on her way for a visit. Maybe she can help. He says, she must be carpooling with TJ, because TJ scheduled a visit with him too. She says, isn’t that sweet? Their kids are having a date night visiting their parents in prison.
Brook congratulates Chase and Willow, saying she’s happy for them both. Elizabeth says, congratulations, and Finn says, it’s wonderful news. Something to look forward to. Brook asks when the big day is, and how she can help; flowers, invitations, catering… Chase says, didn’t Brook just have a baby? and Brook says, that’s what nannies are for. She can ask Monica if they can use the rose garden. Willow thanks her, and says she’ll definitely need some help planning, but on a much smaller scale. Chase says, they definitely want to get married as soon as possible… while there’s still time.
Chase says he’s sorry to startle them, but the truth is, he’s terminal. Brook says there must be something that can still be done. Isn’t Finn a big researcher? Didn’t he cure that Blackwood’s thing? Chase says he’s glad Brook is rooting for him, but don’t give Finn a hard time. Finn has done everything humanly possible. Now as a soon-to-be groom, he’s going to allow himself to be more sentimental and cliché than usual. He wanted to give Willow a lifetime of happiness, but since that’s not possible… Willow says, if that’s not possible, they’re going to spend the time they have left together being happy. Which is why they’re getting married. Chase says they want all of them to be there, and Brook says how can they refuse that invitation. Of course (🍷) they’ll be there. She tells Willow to be compassionate to a single lady, and toss the bouquet her way.
Alexis goes to see Molly in the visiting room, and thanks her for coming. Molly says she misses Alexis, and will visit as long as she’s in there. Everything is fine, except she, Sam, and Kristina made an executive decision to paint the kitchen after the fire. Alexis says, what fire? and Molly laughs, and says, they would never. Everything is good. How about Alexis? Alexis says, she’s settling in, and Molly asks if the doctor there knows she has osteoporosis. Alexis says she hasn’t seen a doctor, and doesn’t need to see one. Molly says Alexis knows she’s supposed to be monitoring her diet; calcium and green leafy vegetables. Alexis says she eats what the gen pop is eating, and Molly says maybe they need to get Diane involved. Alexis says she’s fortunate to be assigned to the library. She doesn’t want to push her luck with requesting a special diet. It’s not a battle she’s interested in fighting, especially not with this administration. So drop it. Molly says, for now, and Alexis asks how she likes working at the DA’s office. Molly says she loves it so much, but she can’t begin to describe how disappointed she was that the Feds took over prosecuting Cyrus. After everything Cyrus did to TJ and his family, she wanted to be part of bringing him to justice. Alexis says, that’s her girl. She used to have that passion. Speaking of the law, could Molly do her a favor?
Stella says she can’t believe Jordan is going to let TJ continue to waste his time visiting that man. Jordan says, that man’s name is Shawn, and he’s TJ’s biological father. Stella asks, how much of a father can Shawn can be behind bars? TJ needs to focus on his studies. Jordan says, TJ is an adult. He’s almost finished with medical school, and he and Molly are domestic partners. He’s more than capable of making his own decisions. Stella says, as long as they’re talking about responsible adults making horrible decisions, why don’t they talk about her and Curtis, and their unnecessary divorce?
Shawn and TJ fist bump through the glass. TJ says Shawn looks happy, and Shawn says, the whole place is buzzing about Cyrus finally being taken down. TJ must be proud of his mom. TJ says he is, but it definitely came at a high price. The year she spent going after Cyrus took its toll on her life, but she finally got him, with Curtis’s help ironically. Shawn says he heard Curtis got shot. How’s he doing? TJ says, it was the scariest 24-hours. They thought they were going to lose Curtis, but he rallied, and now he’s recovering. Shawn says, Curtis is a good man, and he knows how important Curtis is in TJ’s life. It’s good TJ has him to count on. Unfortunately, Shawn also has bad news. His parole was denied. TJ says he thought Shawn was so optimistic, and Shawn says he was, but the parole board thought differently. That’s the short version. He’s not going to be able to come to TJ’s med school graduation after all. TJ says he’s bummed for himself, but sad for Shawn. He was excited for Shawn to get out. Shawn says he’s thought about that a lot. Given the circumstances, maybe TJ should rethink seeing him. Shawn hangs up the phone, and gets up.
Maxie tells Bobbie, she was so beautiful. There was a magical moment when she touched Louise’s hand and Louise grasped her finger, and she wondered how this miracle could even exist. Maxie is obviously uncomfortable, and Bobbie says she knows something she can do to help. Maxie says, the only help she needs is to make sure Peter stays out of her life. Bobbie says, the police are searching for Peter. She was thinking about something a little more hands-on practical level. She comes out of the kitchen with some frozen vegetables, and says they’ve got peas and carrots. Does Maxie have any cabbage?
Nina tells Carly, Jax didn’t ask her to come to Port Charles. Maxie called her to invite her to spend time with Wiley. Carly says, why now? All of a sudden out of the blue. Nina’s been out of town for months. Michael didn’t run into her at Kelly’s or the MetroCourt, where he’d be reminded of her. Nina says she just assumed Michael was a decent man who believes in second chances, and recognizes the benefit for Wiley in having both grandmas in his life. Carly says, that may be true, because Michael is willing to make compromises and allowances where Wiley is concerned. She trusts Michael’s judgement, but make no mistake. Jax put some kind of pressure on Michael. That’s not on Nina; it’s on Jax. And she will find out what Jax used as leverage.
Michael comes back, and says, Wiley was out like a light. Nina thanks him for keeping Wiley up so late, so she could visit. Maybe next time she could take him out for ice cream, or they could go to the zoo. Carly says, good idea. She can take Willow with her to help her navigate. The snake house scares Wiley. Nina says that’s a good idea, and if Michael wants to go, him and Willow, she’d love it. She really wants to learn her grandson’s likes and dislikes. Michael says he’ll call her to set something up, and she thanks him. She says she enjoyed playing with Wiley, and thinks Wiley liked it too. She leaves, and Carly asks Michael to please tell her how Jax persuaded him to let Nina see Wiley.
Alexis tells Molly, there’s a question she’s stuck on, and to solve it, she needs to look at the sentencing records in Port Charles County from 2015 to present. Molly says, that’s the favor? and Alexis says she just has to do a little research. You don’t have to be a lawyer to access the records; they’re open to the public. Molly asks what Alexis is planning on doing with this research, and Alexis says she just needs to solve a problem. Molly says, Alexis does know it’s illegal for prisoners to practice law, but Alexis says that doesn’t stop her from putting in her two cents. What are they going to do, disbar her… again? Molly says, that’s not funny, and Alexis says she’s just trying to keep busy and pass the time. And she’s helping a friend. The law is what she knows, and she misses it. Molly says, it’s nice to see her interest in justice return. She’ll get the files. Alexis says she knew Molly would understand.
Chase says he thinks he needs to close his eyes for a minute, and Elizabeth thinks it’s a good idea for them to give Chase a break. Willow says, it will give her a chance to tell Wiley about their wedding. He asks her to tell Michael that he’s first on the guest list. He can’t got married without his best friend. She has no idea how much this means to him. She’s made him one very happy man. Willow says she’ll be back soon, and leaves. Brook says she just remembered a wedding question she has for the bride, and follows Willow. Finn tells Chase to get some rest; he’ll check in later. Chase asks to talk to Finn for a second, and Elizabeth says she’ll be in the lab. Finn asks what’s on Chase’s mind, and Chase says he knows what Finn is doing, and he’s asking Finn to stop.
Brook tells Willow, hang on. She tells Willow that she can only imagine how difficult this is, and Willow says, it’s not difficult; she loves Chase. Brook says she knows, but Willow is in love with Michael.
Michael tells Carly that he doesn’t regret letting Nina see Wiley. Wiley seemed to enjoy it. Just so she knows, he made it clear there’s to be no discussion about Nelle, and Carly says she trusts his judgment. She’s more than willing to set her differences with Nina aside for Wiley’s sake. They’ll never be best friends, but they can be cordial. She believes Nina loves Wiley and only wants the best for him. He’s glad to hear it, and she says, answer her this. With everything that’s going on, would he have picked tonight for Nina’s visit if Jax hadn’t intervened?
Finn asks what Chase wants him to stop doing, and Chase says, beating himself up. Finn’s done everything in his power to find a cure. He’s been by Chase’s side or in the lab every minute. He’s called in every doctor to consult with him. If he dies, it’s not Finn’s fault. Finn says Chase doesn’t know that. Chase says Finn did every test, and invented new ones, and Finn says he’s not giving up until he finds a cure. Chase says, no doubt Finn will go on to save many lives, but it’s time Finn admits he can’t save him. Finn says he’s not giving up, but Chase says, every part of his body is shutting down. He wants to settle this while he still can. He needs Finn to understand that he doesn’t want him to hold himself accountable. Finn says he can’t do that, and Chase asks, why he’s always so stubborn? If he dies, he needs Finn to know he forgives him for not saving him. Finn’s got to be strong. If it comes down to it, he’ll need Finn’s strength to say goodbye.
Brook says Willow doesn’t need to pretend; she has eyes, and Michael more or less admitted it before Chase got sick. Willow says they never set out to deceive Chase. They wanted to wait until Chase was back on his feet before they said anything. Brook says she totally gets it. They don’t want to hurt a guy that’s sick. They had reason to believe Chase would recover in a few days. What a mess. Willow says, when she and Michael got married, it was to secure Wiley’s custody. They never thought they’d fall in love. Brook says, one night, they’ll go out for drinks, and she’ll tell Willow all her crazy romance stories. She cares about Chase, so whatever Willow or Chase need, she genuinely wants to help. Willow says when she tells Michael about marrying Chase, she knows he’ll understand why she did it, but she still thinks he’s going to need a friend. Brook says, consider it done, and Willow thanks her. She says she should go; she needs to find Michael. She leaves, and Brook says, good luck with that.
Maxie is under a blanket, and Bobbie says, the ice should relieve some of the pressure. She’s actually surprised Maxie’s lactation consultant didn’t go over that. Maxie says, they probably did. She was so preoccupied with finding Louise, and Peter being caught, and how to tell Georgie and James that their little sister wasn’t coming home. Bobbie says, all this time, Maxie let herself suffer, and Maxie says, part of her doesn’t want the milk to dry up, because if it’s there, Louise is still connected to her body, and even though some other woman is holding her right now, Louise is still her baby. She cries, and puts her head on Bobbie’s shoulder.
TJ pounds on the glass, and Shawn turns around. He picks up the phone, and TJ says, Shawn doesn’t want to see him anymore? Shawn says, of course (🍷) he does. He was hoping he’d make parole, and they could meet like normal people. They can’t have a father/son relationship in the prison visiting room. TJ says he gets to see Shawn and talk to him, even if it’s on a phone through a plexiglass barrier. To him, it’s worth a lot. He wants Shawn in his life whatever way he can have him. Shawn is his father.
Jordan tells Stella that she and Curtis will always love each other. Their marriage didn’t work. Stella asks, then why hasn’t Jordan signed the divorce papers yet? and Jordan says she’s been a little busy. Stella says she’d make time if she really wanted it over. Jordan says, it’s not about what she wants. It’s about accepting the reality. She couldn’t be the person Curtis needed her to be, and it was painful and unfair to both of them. Isn’t it better to be loved for who you are than constantly feel like you’re not enough?
Nina knocks on Jax’s door, and he says he didn’t know she was back. She asks if he’s really surprised to see her. Carly told her that he went to a lot of trouble to – what’s the word she used? – persuade Michael. Didn’t he think she’d jump at the chance to see her grandson? He says he assumed she’d race back if it meant seeing Wiley, but he has no expectations. She tells him, be honest. What has he done?
Michael tells Carly, Jax has every right to advocate for Nina, but Carly thinks Jax was doing more than advocating. Michael says, Jax may have forced the timing, but it wasn’t something he wasn’t considering already. He asks if they’re done talking about Jax. He has a question. Now that the charges have all been dropped against Jason, is she going to step aside and let Jason run the business?
Carly says, this is a conversation she and Michael don’t need to have. Michael disagrees, and says when his dad went missing, he approached her and offered to have a role in the business, but she turned him down. She says, when he was a teenager, she and Sonny decided the business was no place for him. As an adult, he decided to stay in the legitimate business world, and they supported that. He says, because they wanted to keep him safe. They didn’t want him implicated in anything illegal, right? He thinks his dad would want the same thing for her, but she says, Sonny is gone. Jason was in prison, and on the run. The business wasn’t going to stop because he wasn’t available. Not to mention, Cyrus wanted to take over the territory, and had to be stopped. He says, and she did it by herself? She says, it was a team effort. Cyrus overplayed his hand, and the cops took him down. Michael says, not just the cops, and she says, not by a long shot. He says, Cyrus kidnapping Gladys was front page news. What happened afterward, not so much. There was an exchange of gunfire on the waterfront. Was she there? She says, yes. Fortunately, so was Jason.
Molly says she and TJ feel so much better knowing Alexis and Shawn reconnected. Alexis tells Molly, she can’t say prison is an ideal place to reconnect with an old friend, but she’s happy to see him. It’s one day a week in the library, but to have someone there she can genuinely trust is helpful. Molly says, it’s a relief to her and TJ that Alexis and Shawn have each other to lean on, and she’s not alone, but Alexis says, don’t worry about her. Molly has a new job in the DA’s office, she’s studying bar, and she’s newly domestic partnered. Focus on those things. She’s fine. Molly says, hello? She is her mother’s daughter. She’s always going to worry about Alexis. She’s encouraged that Alexis’s interest in the law has returned. It’s like watching Alexis come back to life.
Jax tells Nina that he just wanted to make amends for his part in keep the truth about Nelle from her. She says, so Carly was telling the truth; he did pressure Michael. He says, Michael thought giving her access to Wiley was the right thing to do. He’s always been more open-minded than his mother. She says, you don’t get something for nothing. What did it cost him to convince Michael? He says, in the end, it was worth it. Was the visit good? She says, it was so great. She thinks Wiley was happy to see her too. She takes his hand, and says, so thank you very much, and he says she’s welcome. She drops his hand, and says, just to be clear, she doesn’t owe him anything. The slate is clean between them? He says, 100%, but in the interest of full disclosure, Wiley isn’t the only one who’s happy to see her.
Brook goes in to see Chase. He’s sleeping, and she says, Billy Joel was right; only the good die young. Chase asks if she’s just going to stand there, and she says he wasn’t supposed to hear that. She’s glad everyone is gone; he attracts quite a crowd. He asks if she’s jealous because he’s so popular, and she says, always. Did he think she’d be easy on him because he’s in a hospital bed? He says he thought people were nicer after they had kids, and she says she is being nice; she’s there, isn’t she? He says, Willow said her daughter is beautiful, and looks like her. She says, Bailey Lois is beautiful, but she looks like herself. He says, Bailey Lois Quartermaine? BLQ II? She says, that part is still under negotiation. But enough joking around. It’s just them. They can play this however he wants. Around the family and Willow, she gets it. He’s being strong, but get real. Does he want it to be all unicorns and rainbows that he’s about to get hitched to Willow finally, or does he want to rage against the machine that he’s been dealt a really crappy and unfair hand? Either way, she’s there for him. It’s his call.
Finn goes into his lab, and leans on the door, telling Elizabeth, he can’t do it anymore; he just can’t. She says, finding a cure? He’s got to keep trying. He says Chase wants to absolve him of his death, but how can he accept that when he knows it’s his fault that Chase is dying?
Michael tells Carly, Cyrus is gone, and all that matters is Jason is back. He should be running the business; not her. She says, it’s not that simple, and he says, you know what is? Josslyn is about to graduate high school. Avery is just a little girl, and Donna is still a baby. They need her. She says she has every intention of being there for them – and him. He says, then the sooner Jason is in charge of the business, and she has nothing to do with it anymore, the better.
Shawn asks Alexis how her visit with Molly was, and she says, good. How about his visit with TJ? He says, he told TJ that his parole was denied, and said he thought TJ should visit less. Alexis asks, why? and he says he told TJ that he didn’t think they could have much of a father/son relationship in the visiting room. She asks what TJ’s reaction was, and Shawn says, TJ called him out. He said it was his life and his choice, and he was going to keep visiting. She says, they have great kids, and he says, they do. He says, a bit of friendly advice from an old friend; be careful. She says she intends to be.
Jordan says, she knows from personal experience, that Stella isn’t the first person to come around to what Curtis wants, but she has to accept that Jordan’s marriage to her nephew is over. Even Stella’s best intentions can’t save it. So whatever she did to put a pin between Portia and Curtis, just let Curtis move on with his life.
Jax asks if Nina is going back to Pennsylvania, and Nina says she’s not sure. When she left Port Charles, she needed to heal. She found way more than a place to recover in Nixon Falls. He says, even though her grandson is there? and she says, Wiley’s home is in Port Charles, but she doesn’t believe her home is meant to be there anymore.
Maxie tells Bobbie, she keeps thinking about all those months Louise was nestled safe inside her. Now that Louise is here, she can’t be with her. She wonders if there’s someone there to comfort Louise when she cries at night, what her favorite toy is, what makes her smile? Bobbie says she knows it’s a horrible situation, but they can pray for it to be rectified soon. Maxie says she’s trying to be positive, but she just misses her little girl.
Finn tells Elizabeth, he can’t let Chase die thinking he’s a hero, when he’s Chase’s killer. Elizabeth says, stop. He didn’t do this. Peter did. Is he hearing her? It’s not his fault. He takes her hand, then touches her face. She removes his hand, and leaves.
Chase tells Brook, he’s curious. He’s fought this thing with everything he has, but he can’t beat it. His hand doesn’t work anymore, and he used to be young; he used to be strong. It’s not fair. He should starting a life with Willow, not saying goodbye to her. He’s scared. He starts to cry, and says he doesn’t want to die. There’s so much he wanted to do; so much he won’t get to do. Brook hugs him, and he cries for a moment. He says he doesn’t want to die, and she tells him, she doesn’t want him to die.
Willow comes into the gatehouse, and Michael wants to tell her all about Nina’s visit with Wiley, but she says, wait. She has something to tell him first. Chase asked her to marry him, and she said, yes.
Tomorrow, Carly says it’s none of someone’s business, Willow asks if Michael regrets falling in love with her, Austin says he’s kind of the good guy in this story, Britt tells Jason that what happened in Canada stays in the past, and Maxie asks Nina who Mike is.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Glenn tells the crew that the motor yacht next door, the Lady Michelle, paid for their crew to have an overnight cruise. Daisy says, here we go.
Marina Lav. The motor yacht crew arrives, and Sydney says her stomach is in knots. Daisy says, it feels weird, and in her interview, she says she’d rather watch Dani and JL make out all night than wait on her peers. In Gary’s interview, he says, is it the end of the charter? Oh wait, it hasn’t begun. They’re going to judge everything because they’re yachties, and it’s hard to give your all to serving someone from the boat next door. Glenn welcomes the guests, and Daisy gives the tour. In her interview, she says, nobody knows what to do or say. She wants to crawl in a hole and die; it’s awful. Guest/stew Samantha says, it feels weird drinking on a Monday. Glenn says he wants to get going, and more champagne is popped. Guest/deckhand Paul wants to get steaming drunk, and Daisy says they’ve already drunk the most champagne of any guests this season. In Natasha’s interview, she says she has a different kind of anxiety. There’s a chef and sous chef on board, so she’s going to be judged differently. She has no chance to f*** it up. Glenn puts the sails up, and in his interview, he says he was on a motor yacht for nine months early on in his career, but he’s been on sailboats ever since, even though motor yachts are easier to drive. He hopes he can get some of his crew to lure a few of theirs away from the dark side. They sail, and the guests think it’s incredible.
Glenn says they’re 100% under the sails, and Daisy asks if the stews were ever on a sailboat. She tells them, it’s hard because they can’t set up for dinner while sailing, but the upside is, the clientele has to be more understanding. One of the stew guests says, it’s a lifestyle. Gary kisses Alli, and in her interview, Alli says she and Gary are back on track. It’s much better than when they were broken up, and the awkwardness. Gary tells Alli that he thought the guests would be more stuck up, and Alli tells Natasha, last time. They drop anchor in Milna. In Daisy’s interview, she says, since it was the last minute, they’re sticking with the previous guests’ preference sheets, and having an elegant sea food and steak dinner. They will have fun. Some of the guests go swimming, and the deckhands talk shop. The guests get dressed for dinner, and one of the deckhands tells the stews that they’re late, and it’s the same thing hate. Daisy tells Glenn that the guests are demanding the crew do a shot with them. Alli tells Natasha that they love the food; they’re absolutely frothing in it. That sounds kind of disgusting, like rabid animals. Daisy tells the guests that she thinks them having a shot is a great idea, and promises to do one with them later. The entrée is surf and turf, over garlic mashed potatoes, and I think of my measly frozen butter chicken dinner from Trader Joe’s. Chef Christian keeps taking pictures of the food, and I wonder if he’s going to incorporate Natasha’s dishes into his own menu. He says the food is exceptional. Dani asks if the show girl thing is still happening, and she and Sydney get dressed up in what look like sparkly tutus and headbands with feathers. In Glenn’s interview, he says he’s impressed. They really turned it around. The camaraderie amazes him. They’ve let it slide down their backs like good yachties. It’s a great way to end the season. A guest says, there are foodgasms all around. Glenn says Dani and Sydney look like little fairies. He tells the crew they can do one shot with the guests for the end of the season, and they do. In his interview, Glenn says, the minute he agreed, he instantly regretted it. They have to treat the other crew like charter guests. It can’t just be a party with a bunch of yachties. He doesn’t want it to go off the rails.
The guests want to get the party started, and asks for more shots. Glenn asks if Colin did a shot, and he says they all did. Gary says, now they’re stoked. Glenn says, it’s like leaving 16 year olds together without supervision; it’s a bit terrifying. Colin asks about having a beer, but Glenn says they already had a shot. He doesn’t want to end the season with a drunken orgy, with the guests or crew. Sydney says she and Dani are showgirls, and their job is to let everyone have fun. She thinks. She wasn’t given a full job description. She was just told to dress up, and she did. She and Dani walk upstairs carrying sparklers, followed by Gary, also waving a sparkler. In Gary’s interview, he says he thought it would be hard work, but the guests are cool, and appreciate everything they’re doing. It makes their lives easier. He feels like a guest. Natasha tells Colin, it’s surreal, and decides to go to bed. Chef Christian asks her to have a drink, and Colin tells Gary, it’s the last charter. Gary says he can’t believe it; they’re like a family. Sydney tells the guests that the boys dressed up like mermaids last charter; now it’s their turn. Gary asks Alli to cuddle, but it’s a no. In Daisy’s interview, she says she feels it’s imperative that she tell Alli what she knows. It’s so dark and twisted, but it’s way too delicate to bring up. At the end of the day, they have a job to get done. The guests discover the hot tub, and Alli and Gary kiss in the galley. In her interview, Sydney says, cool… gross. Gary says, take a photo, and Sydney says she’s not about it.
Daisy feels sad, and Alli agrees. She thanks Daisy for everything, and Daisy says Alli made it easy. She loved her team. Alli totally agrees. Dani asks if they’re having a moment, and Alli hugs her. Dani brings shots upstairs, where the guests are still going woohoo! in the hot tub. Guest/stew Samantha says they know what it’s like to be on that side. Gary bugs Alli for a cuddle, and JL tells Dani, it’s coming to an end. She says, it’s the last night, and she’s going to cry like a baby. JL says he can’t wait until they have time to themselves. In Dani’s interview, she says she’s happy it’s the last charter, but it’s bittersweet, like her and JL’s situation. When it’s over, they’ll spend more time together, but where is it going to lead? Life is so hard right now. I play the violin in the background. This should be everyone’s worst problem.
Natasha says, this is their last morning. She understands a bougie brunch as being elegant and sophisticated. All of her friends says she’s bougie. She likes her handbags, clothes, shoes, too much clothes, but it’s what she likes. Glenn asks Colin if they snuck out after he went to bed, and Colin says, maybe for a couple. The stews set up signs that say, closing party, hang up white and gold décor, and put on captain hats. The table is decorated with sunflowers for brunch, which, no surprise, is fabulous. Glenn says they’re going to sail back to Marina Lav. Colin says the anchor is home, and in Glenn’s interview, he says, it feels good to get in one last day. He’s sad to see the crew go. He jokes that he never wants to have children because he has them already. It’s an ever evolving family of children. He loves it; it’s great.
They sail, and the guests take pictures. One says, it’s super dramatic with the sails up. Glenn says the boat has done well at regattas, and in his interview, he says he knows some of the crew has other things to move on to, but he’s hoping to keep a few more crew on board. The guests announce they don’t want to go back to normal life. They approach the dock, and Chef Christian keeps repeating, where my Gucci’s? Where my, where my Gucci’s? while trying to put his arm around Daisy. Glenn apologizes to the boat next door for their obnoxious guests, saying he can’t do anything about it. In Daisy’s interview, she says, what the hell? This is weird. Alli and Dani sing, Daisy’s gonna get laid.
They line up for goodbyes, and guest Ben thanks everyone. He says they know their side, and if they were upset by the last minute surprise, they didn’t show it. They smashed it. He thanks them, and Glenn thanks the guests for being there. They leave, and Glenn says, it’s the end of the season. The crew all go, whoo! Glenn asks if Sydney has a second, and she asks if she’s in trouble. He says, the opposite. He needs to bring the boat back to Spain, and needs a delivery crew. If she’s not busy, he’d like her to stick around and help deliver the boat back. She says, for sure, and in her interview, she says, being asked to stay on by Glenn is the biggest testament to how hard she worked. She tells Glenn that she guesses she did an okay job, and he says, an excellent job.
Glenn calls everyone to the saloon for a tip meeting. He says they did it; they pulled it off. He knows they weren’t too happy to have their peers as guests, but they did great. The tip is $7500, or $830 a piece for one night’s work. He thinks it was a great season, and they did amazing. Their tip total is $106,450 or $11,830 each. In Gary’s interview, he says he’s stoked and happy. Glenn says he’s taking the crew for a spectacular dinner, where they can toast to a fantastic season with a fantastic crew. He thanks them, and tells them to be ready at 7.
Glenn tells Daisy that he knows a boat looking for a chief stew, but she says she’s going back to her old boat. She’d been on it for two and a half years. Dani says she can’t believe the season is over, and Sydney says Glenn offered her work. Daisy asks who’s doing the crossing, and Sydney says her and Gary. Glenn asks for a quick word with Alli, and tells her that he needs a junior stew for the crossing. He asks if she’d consider staying, and she says, yes. In her interview, she says she’s grateful to be working for Glenn, but not thrilled to be sailing with Gary and Sydney. She wishes it was just Gary, but here she is. Daisy says Sydney knows how it goes, but Sydney says she’s better than that. Daisy says she thinks she is, but she knows better.
As they get ready for dinner, Sydney says, what a season it’s been. JL wonders if he should wear red or green pants, and Gary tells him, neither one is a suitable color. In Sydney’s interview, she says, her, Alli, and Gary, one big happy family. Great. JL tells the captain that he’s busting out his leather jacket, and Sydney wonders who Daisy is; she’s so glamourous. They head out, and Glenn tells them to try and be good for 20 minutes without supervision. They get in two taxis, and Gary tells stupid jokes. In his interview, he says he and Alli are in a good space, and it feels right. He wants to end the season with that. They get to Klis Fortress, which is gorgeous and castle-like. In Alli’s interview, she says, it’s the coolest thing ever. Glenn joins them, and the crew applauds. Gary says, let’s do a deck photo, and Glenn says, a d*ck photo? Has he got a wide angle? Natasha wonders what everyone’s highs and lows were, and JL says his high was sliding down the dessert table. Dani says her high was sailing, and her low was doing meal service while sailing. Natasha says, at the beginning, everyone was betting on seeing her and Daisy fight. She regrets shutting Daisy down. That was her low. She realized they could do great charters together because they have so much in common. In her interview, she says she thinks her defensiveness caused the problem. She thinks she and Daisy could probably rock a boat now. She says, it’s a chef thing, but doesn’t have to be a human thing. The team left something in her heart that she’ll remember for the rest of her life. Alli says she never laughed so much, and it was because of them. Glenn says his low was when the dock hit them – ha-ha – and his high was meeting them. The first day, he was nervous when he met them, but knew right away they’d make a great team. He was relieved, and knew they’d nail it even before they got started. They’re his dream team. They toast to that, and Glenn says he’s going back to the boat. He wants them to let loose. It’s not a school night; get crazy.
Alli and Daisy go for a smoke. JL and Dani step away from the table, and JL says his high was meeting Dani. In JL’s interview, he says Dani opened his eyes to what a good relationship could be, and he’s not willing to let it go so easily. Dani says she loves him, and they kiss. Daisy says she wants to tell Alli something. She doesn’t want to be that person to stir shit, but she’s trying put herself in her shoes. Alli says, just tell her, and Daisy says he knows for a fact that Gary was going to f*** Sydney to get her attention. We flash back to Colin telling Daisy what Gary said, and Alli says, it’s ruined. It’s like yuk now. (So articulate!) She feels like someone kicked her in the stomach. Daisy advises her, just do dinner, and leave it behind. In Alli’s interview, she says, now she has to act normal? It sucks. She sits back down, obviously bummed. I say, oh, grow up, and dump his sorry ass. Gary asks how Alli is, and she says she’s okay. He says he doesn’t want her to just be okay, and she says she’s great. He says, cool. Good chat. In his interview, he says, what now? JL says Alli came back with a massive frown, and Alli jets. Gary says he doesn’t know what’s going on. Alli goes back to Daisy, and says she’s embarrassed. She starts to cry, and Daisy says she shouldn’t have told Alli, but Alli says, it’s not her fault. Gary tries to figure out what’s going on. Alli wonders who could be that spiteful? She can’t stay away from him, or he’ll follow her around and question her. In her interview, she says she’s going to lose it. She doesn’t see how anyone can be that cruel.
Daisy and Alli go back to the table, and Daisy apologizes for being rude. Fireworks go off, and they cheer. Natasha says she’ll remember this forever, and in Sydney’s interview, she says, what a way to end the season. It’s the best way to go out; fireworks at a castle. Daisy tells Alli that they’ll get through this together. Colin wonders what Alli and Daisy were talking about, and Daisy says she’ll tell him later. Gary nods out on the way back, while Dani and JL make out. Sydney says, it’s a sh*t car ride. They get back to the boat, and Daisy tells Colin about what she told Alli, that Gary wanted to f*** Sydney to get back at her. Colin asks why she did that, and Daisy says she couldn’t keep it in; it’s effing weird. Colin says he’s not angry at Daisy, but he’s angry at himself. It’s not like him to say something about a mate that he shouldn’t say. In his interview, he says he should have kept Gary’s confidence to himself. There’s only one explanation – he f***ed up.
Colin tells Gary what happened, and Gary says boys should stick up for each other. It is what it is. Colin put him under the bus. This isn’t how he really is, but now it seems like it. I love when people say that’s not who they are, when they’re the ones who did it. Gary is the definition of a d-bag. In Gary’s interview, he says Colin stabbed him in the back. It wasn’t how he expected a great season to end. Gary wanders around, and everyone has shots. Daisy says they need to get the crew together; it’s their last night. Alli says it’s time for the jacuzzi, and they drunkenly change into their bathing suits, except for Colin, who sits on the edge of the tub. Sydney announces that she’s not getting naked tonight, and Natasha slaps her butt. Alli heads downstairs, and ends up basically rolling down on her ass. Colin asks if she’s okay, and she just laughs. Gary whines that it’s over. Alli won’t even look at him, so he’s going to bed. Alli says, help is on the way, and dives onto Gary’s bunk. I’m confused. Gary tells her, the stupid sh*t he said changed everything. In his interview, he says he wanted to hurt her because she’d hurt him, and he feels like sh*t about it. She pulls on him, telling him to come back, and he practically falls out of his bunk. Colin suggests they all be civilized, and in Dani’s interview, she says she just wants to enjoy JL, and make some love. Alli says it’s their last night. No going to bed.
Someone suggests putting bubbles in the tub, and Gary says, this is a sh*t show. He’ll do anything to turn it around. He puts some bubble bath in the tub, or maybe it’s dishwashing liquid. Colin calls him an idiot. There are a lot of bubbles, but it’s not like the time I was in a hotel room and said, I wonder what would happen if I put bubble bath in the jacuzzi? and ended up with an I Love Lucy moment, involving out of control bubbles. Alli tells Colin, they get it; he has a girlfriend. As if to prove he can still be a fun guy, Colin jumps in the tub fully clothed. Natasha gets out, saying she can’t deal. What a night. She leaves, and Gary kisses Alli. In Colin’s interview, he says, it looks like everything is okay. It was a super difficult season; no point in holding a grudge. Atta boy. Go get her. Sydney says she’s the only one who’s naked, and in Daisy’s interview, she says, they get it. Sydney has boobs. This is getting weird. Everything is a mess, and Daisy says she can’t function. She’s going to say goodnight. Gary and Alli kiss some more.
Departure day. Everything is a mess; glasses, empties, bubbles, overflowing ashtrays. The crew stumbles out, and Dani asks why she’s like this. Glenn asks how Sydney is, and she says she’s a little tired. Glenn says they all are. In Natasha’s interview, she says she was happy having Dani as a roommate. She wishes Dani could see beyond her beauty to who she is. She’s the most amazing person Natasha has ever met. In JL’s interview, he says, personally, he’s grown a lot. Sailing is more difficult than a motor yacht, so he thinks he’ll stick toward that from now on. He says he’s joking. If he ever has the opportunity to work with Glenn again, he’ll do it in a heartbeat. Glenn sees the mess, and wonders, what the hell happened? He tells them to tidy it up. Alli tells Natasha that she doesn’t want to stay with Gary, and Natasha offers to be her roommate. JL says goodbye to Colin, and in Dani’s interview, she says when she started, it was just going to be a job. Now she’s full of hope, and maybe starting a relationship. She and JL have a lot going against them; age, distance, and where they are in their lives. They leave, and Glenn says, have fun. Dani says, we will… I will, and Glenn laughs. In her interview, she says she appreciates JL. They understand each other. She’ll just see where it goes, and keep an open heart to whatever’s to come. In Colin’s interview, he says he came in to make money, go back to his boat, fix it, and continue his life with his girlfriend. What he experienced was more meaningful than that. He tells Glenn that he’s one of the best. If Glenn ever needs an engineer, he’ll be there in a heartbeat. He apologizes to Gary, saying, he’s going to miss him. Gary says he’ll miss Colin too. In his interview, Gary says, regardless of what happened, Colin was a godsend this season. Colin is a genuine guy, and they’ll be friends for ages after this. He’s a little sad because Colin is the only one that loves him. Daisy thinks relief is the main thing. They pulled off the charter season, and she came out unscathed. She thought the girls were incredible, and hopes she brought out their best sides. She and Natasha had a rough season, but they made it happen, and got awesome tips. She says she needs someone to carry her bags. This is bullsh*t. In her interview, she says, this was fun, but she’s going to sunbathe topless and sip rosé now.
Glenn has a meeting with the crew for the crossing. He says, the first thing is, they’ve got to get the boat ready. They have two days, and he has two more crew coming. They have to figure out who staying in which cabin. Natasha and Alli tell him they’re going to room together, and he says then Sydney and Gary can room together, since the other two will probably want to be in the same cabin. Sydney and Gary shrug and say that’s fine, and in Alli’s interview, she says, okay. Really? She’s gobsmacked, and can’t believe after everything that happened, everyone thinks it’s okay for them to share a room. I’m not sure what she expected, since she left that open. Sydney says she’s just sharing a room, not looking for a situation. This keeps happening again and again. Natasha says her head hurts. She needs a painkiller.
It’s the first day of four and a half days to Palma. Sydney says she’s resolved her differences with Alli. They talked all that sh*t out, and now Gary and Alli are sharing a cabin. Alli says, it seems good, but she feels like she’s looking after a child. She thinks she needs space from Gary. It’s not going well, and she thinks she needs an effing moment to breathe. I laugh. Be careful what you wish for…

🌃 It Got Late Again…
Tomorrow is going to be madness, so calling it a night, morning, whatever. My teacups are piling up, but I’ll get there. See you for soap, Tyler and NYC, and until then, stay safe, stay appreciative, and stay not thinking life is so hard. There’s always someone who has it worse than you.
