June 3, 2021 – Laura Negotiates With Cyrus, Covid Hits the Listings, Renovation Is Hard & Brooklyn

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Peter tumbles down the stairs, and lies at the bottom on the landing. Blood pools around his head. Someone runs down behind him, and stands on the steps. We see the fake passports for Peter and Maxie on the floor next to him. A hospital employee runs up the other stairs, and checks the pulse in his neck.

Earlier. On the hospital roof, Peter looks at the fake passports. He looks up, and we see a helicopter. His phone rings, and he says, yeah… It’s too late? For what he’s paying them, they should be where he wants, when he wants… He doesn’t care. Hurry. He has to get the hell out of there. Finn says, he’s not going anywhere, and Peter tells Finn, stay out of his way. His daughter’s out there. Finn says, and his son is dying downstairs. Give him what he needs to save his son.

Valentin comes into the hospital, and asks if Elizabeth has seen Anna. Elizabeth says Anna is in Maxie’s room on the 4th floor. Valentin asks if Maxie had her baby, but Elizabeth says she hasn’t seen Maxie’s baby. He asks if Maxie is all right, and she says, physically, Maxie is fine, no thanks to him. He says, I beg your pardon? and she says, he looked the other way, so did Anna. They both knew what Peter was capable of, yet he and Anna still unleashed him on the rest of them.

Anna asks Maxie if something happened to her baby. Maxie says, thanks to Peter, her daughter is gone.

Brook tells Louise, she’s happy now. Look at them. Louise is only a few hours old, and already in her first hotel room. A 9.3 guest rating; she could do worse. She’s really real. She always knew Louise was real, but she seems so much more impressive now that she’s there. They’ve got a long road ahead of them.

Willow answers the gatehouse door to Michael, who says he wanted to see how she was doing. She says she tried to rest, but she still feels guilty. Michael comes inside, and she says, tonight, when Chase sent them home, all she could think about is how she wanted to be with Michael.

On the phone, Laura says, Cyrus is looking to keep a hostage. Here’s her offer. Let Portia and Trina go, and take her instead. Cyrus says, he’ll trade Trina for her, but the good doctor stays. Laura says, he releases both of them, and then she comes in. That’s her offer; think it over.

Outside, Doc asks Laura if she was bluffing, but she says she meant every word. He says she can’t turn herself over to that man. He’ll kill her. She says she knows he’s concerned, and he says he was called there to negotiate a hostage situation. He can’t do his job effectively if his wife is offering herself up as one of the hostages. She says it makes sense because she has a connection to Cyrus, and he says, that appears to be severed. She says, not completely. If she can use that connection, he’ll let Trina and Portia go free. He says, or they let the police do their job. Or let him do his, and negotiate, which is better than risking the mayor’s life. Jordan says she agrees; it’s too risky. She can’t let Laura go in there. Laura says, with all due respect, Jordan can’t stop her either.

Anna asks what Maxie is telling her, when Mac comes in. He tells Maxie that he’s sorry. He’s going to do everything he can to protect her, and get his new granddaughter back. She says she knows he will. She didn’t have a chance to check Peter’s confession before she sent it; did it go through okay? He says, clear as a bell, and she asks if it’s enough to lock Peter up. He says she’s amazing. He doesn’t know where she found the wherewithal to get Peter to confess, not to mention the presence of mind to record it. She says she did what she had to do. Just promise her that he’s not going to get away with it this time. Mac says he thinks they’ve got Peter. Besides the confession, Gladys Corbin named him as Franco’s killer. They’ve got an APB out, and they’re doing a floor by floor search of the entire hospital. He’s on his way to security right now to check the footage. Is she going to be okay? She says, as okay as she can be under the circumstances. He asks if Anna will stay with Maxie, and Anna says, of course (🍷). Maxie says, please just find Peter, and Mac leaves. Anna asks how Maxie got Peter to confess, and Maxie says she hired a nurse to help with her pregnancy. Unfortunately, Peter replaced that nurse with an imposter to kidnap her and induce labor. The imposter double-crossed him, and took off with their child. Anna says, that’s awful, but is Maxie sure it wasn’t another trick? Is she sure this woman didn’t hand off the baby to Peter? Maxie says, trust her. Peter has no idea where their daughter is.

Brook tells Louise, this part is a little tricky. They can’t just walk into the Q mansion. That would be chaos, not to mention the lecture she’d get from Valentin, which from his perspective will be completely justified. Valentin is going to take one look at Louise, and fall madly in love with her. He’s going to give Brook back the ELQ stock. That is what we call collateral benefits. The most important thing is, he’s going to take care of Louise like nobody’s business. He’s going to protect her. First things first, they have to get her home, which means she has to call someone she trusts enough to lie to.

Valentin says Elizabeth is right about everything she just said. He gave Peter far too much leash. She’s suffered enormously, and he’s truly, truly sorry. She says, apparently, Gladys Corbin just told the police it was Peter who killed Franco, not Jason. Any thoughts on that? He says just that he’s sorry, but he has to find Anna to warn her, because Peter is far more dangerous when he’s cornered. She says she’s sure she is, excuses herself, and jets.

Peter says he’s sorry Chase is unwell, and Finn says, Peter poisoned him. He knows Peter tried to poison him, and the toxin got delivered to Chase instead. Peter says Finn has been reading too many spy novels, but Finn says they’re talking about his son’s life. Peter’s been holding the antidote over Anna’s head so she’ll fall into line, threatening to withhold it if she doesn’t do what Peter says. Peter says it does sound like something Anna would make up, and that Finn would believe. Peter’s phone dings, and he sees a text from the helicopter pilot, saying, I can’t land. He starts to walk away, but Finn grabs his arm, and says, if he wants to play games with Anna and the WSB, go ahead. He’s not going to let Chase die. Peter says, if Chase dies, blame Anna.

Portia tells Cyrus to keep her; just let Trina go. Trina says, no. She’s not leaving Portia alone with that psycho. Cyrus tells them, shut up, and Portia tells him to point the gun away from her daughter. He tells her that she has no say in who comes or goes. She has no say in anything. Understood? Portia says, fine, and Cyrus goes to the window to look out. Portia says, if Trina gets the chance, she wants her to run. Trina says, no, but Portia says, just do it, okay?

Taggert launches himself toward the house, and two officers grab him. Jordan tells them to stand down, and tells Taggert to stand down too. Taggert says, that son of a bitch has Trina and Portia in there. Curtis says, Taggert isn’t going to help anything, and Taggert pushes past the police tape, but Curtis tells him to listen to Jordan.

Inside, Cyrus wonders, what’s going on out there? He grabs Trina, and Portia screams at him to get his hands off her daughter. Everyone outside hears her.

Peter tells Finn, Anna deceived and betrayed them both, and Finn let her. He’s not going to do that. Doesn’t Finn see? There have to be consequences. Finn says, not for Chase; he has nothing to do with this. Peter says, Finn is right. It should have been him in the hospital fighting for his life. What can he say? He missed. (Okay, I have to admit, I laugh.) Finn says, this isn’t about Anna anymore, but Peter says, on the contrary. It’s absolutely about Anna. The rules were very clear. She was only to get the antidote if she didn’t disclose his involvement. She broke the rules. Finn says, she broke the rules to save Chase’s life, but Peter says, no, to save his life with this – he shows Finn a vial – she had to follow the rules. Now if Finn is done wasting his time… He starts to walk away, and Finn asks where he thinks he’s going. Peter says he’s going to find his daughter, and launches the vial over the side of the roof. Finn says, no! and Peter says, consequences. He didn’t sentence Chase to death; Anna did. Peter walks away, and after a beat, Finn follows him.

The phone rings and Cyrus tells Portia to answer it. Portia tells Jordan to get her people back, and Jordan asks if she and Trina are all right. Portia says they’re fine, and Cyrus says, fine for now, unless Taggert decides to play hero. Jordan says, don’t worry. Marcus understands what’s at stake. Cyrus says, good. Now get his sister back on the phone. She’s the only one who appears to understand the situation. Jordan says, the mayor has stepped away to deal with the press, and Cyrus says, get her back now. He tells Portia, hang up.

Jordan tells Taggert, another move like that, and she’ll have him locked up. Does he understand her? If he wants to stay, stay out of her way. Wait. She tells the officers to get Taggert away from the area. If he tries to rush the house again, cuff him to a squad car. They lead Taggert away, and Curtis tells Jordan that he’s going to check on Laura. A SWAT guy tells Jordan that everything is in place. They have the house surrounded, and will breach at her signal. Curtis tells Jordan that Doc insisted Laura wear a bulletproof vest, and Jordan says, there’s no talking her out of this, is there? Curtis says she could cuff Laura to a squad car with Taggert, and she says, fine. If Laura insists on going in there, they need to use her relationship with Cyrus to their advantage.

Michael tells Willow that he feels bad for Chase, but he’s not going to feel bad for loving her. She says she loves him too, but they agreed this wouldn’t be a good idea. He says he changed his mind. They did their best for Chase, but being together tonight isn’t going to hurt him. They’re about to kiss, when Michael’s phone rings, and he ignores it, but Willow says, what if it’s the hospital? He answers, and says, what’s up?… Oh my God, what?

Finn follows Peter. As Peter opens the door, Finn grabs him, and throws him down the stairs. And I mean throws. Peter lies at the bottom of the stairs on the landing, blood pooling around his head, the fake passports next to him on the floor. Elizabeth runs up the stairs. She checks the pulse in Peter’s neck, and asks if he can hear her. Finn comes down the stairs, and says, is he…?

Laura tells Doc that her daughter is lying in a hospital, and may never open her eyes again because of that man. She couldn’t live with herself if she let that happen to another child, or to another mother. She’s sorry if that’s not what he wanted her to say, and he says, it isn’t, but that’s who she is. Right now, he hates that he loves that about her. She thanks him for understanding, and thanks him for loving her. He says, his pleasure… always. Jordan joins them, and says, Cyrus agreed to the trade. Laura says, both Trina and Portia are coming out in exchange for her, and Jordan says she wants to stress that Laura doesn’t have to go through with this. She has a SWAT team in place. Laura says she knows that, but thinks they can all agree, this is the best way forward. When Portia and Trina come out, and she goes in, she wants Jordan to take whatever action she believes is most effective. Jordan says she won’t let Laura go in unprepared.

Portia says, Cyrus is bleeding. It’s an infection waiting to happen. Let her change his bandage. Can Trina get her some fresh gauze? Cyrus asks why Portia can’t get it, and she says it’s easier to work on him if he’s not holding a human shield. He lets go of Trina, and Portia says she has gauze in her bag. Portia tells Cyrus to sit down, and he says he’s watching Trina. He tells Portia, he always wanted to have a kid, but she says, children require sacrifice. Parents need to think about them first; what’s best for them, not you. He asks what she’s implying, and she says she’s not surprised he doesn’t have any.

Anna says she’s so sorry, and Maxie asks, why? It’s not her fault. Anna says, it sickens her; the thought of Maxie’s baby out there with some stranger. Maxie cries, and says she just keeps thinking, it’s just good she’s not with Peter. Anna says, that much is true, and Maxie says, she’s realized, the only thing worse than being Peter’s enemy, is being loved by him.

Brook makes up the bed, and asks if Louise is lonely. All that time she spent cuddled up inside her mama. She can’t imagine how much her mama is missing her right now. She never thought she’d say this – she never got along with Louise’s mama – but she’s one strong lady. So strong in fact, and she loves Louise so much, she gave Louise to her. Just for now, until her daddy goes up the river. Can she say penitentiary? Not yet? Don’t worry, she’ll get the hang of it. In the meantime, her job is to keep Louise safe, which is exactly what she’s going to do.

Jordan says she’ll be monitoring Laura the entire time she’s inside, and Laura says, great, but Jordan is going to give her time, right? She wants time to talk Cyrus down, and get him to turn himself in. Jordan asks if Laura believes that’s a possibility, and Laura says, possible, yes, but likely? No, but she has to try. Jordan says her priority is to get Laura out alive. She’ll give Laura time, but not much. And they need a signal. Just a word. Something that won’t make Cyrus suspicious. When they hear it, she’ll signal the SWAT team to breach. Laura says, how about his mother’s name, Florence? and Jordan says, okay, that works. Curtis says, please just don’t say it by accident, and Laura says she’ll be very careful. Doc says, please do. Jordan says, let’s do this, and Doc hugs Laura, saying, be careful, be careful, be careful.

The phone rings, and Portia hands it to Cyrus, who says, Laura? Doc says it’s him, and Cyrus says, his erstwhile brother-in-law. Thanks for reaching out, but he’s not interested in Doc’s services. Doc says he’s not calling as a psychiatrist or a negotiator. He’s calling as Laura’s husband. Cyrus asks if Doc talked Laura out of coming in, or is he going to try and talk Cyrus out of trading Portia and Trina’s lives for his sister’s? Doc says he was unable to persuade Laura not to come in, so he asked Jordan to let him talk them through the exchange. Given they each have as much to lose. Cyrus laughs, and says, they both know that’s not true, but Doc guesses that’s a matter of perspective. Either way, Cyrus needs to get ready. Laura is approaching the house. Cyrus asks how he knows he’s not going to be shot the moment he opens the door, and Doc says, because his wife will be directly in front of Cyrus. Cyrus motions Portia and Train to go to the door, and Portia opens it. Cyrus puts Trina in front of him.

Elizabeth tells Finn that she’s sorry. She’s not getting anything; no pulse, no breath. He’s gone. Finn sits on the stairs, his head in his hands, and says, oh no. He hurries to Peter, and checks Peter’s wrist, saying, come on. He sits back down, and says he killed the one person who can save Chase’s life.

Mac sees Anna outside Maxie’s room, and asks, how is she? Anna says she’s all right, but she wanted some time alone. Mac heads for Maxie’s room, and Valentin comes out of the elevator.

Maxie asks if Mac found Peter, and Mac says, not yet. They’re still searching.

Valentin says, Maxie had her baby? and Anna says, she did, but something happened. Her baby is missing

Finn says, the police are looking for Peter. They have to tell someone. Elizabeth asks, why? and Finn says, because they have to? She says, Peter hurt a lot of people. He killed Franco; he deserves to rot. He says, they can’t leave him, but she says, they’ll find him soon. They’re probably looking right now, so they have to go. Finn says he can’t, and she asks, why not? He says he did this. He threw Peter down the stairs, and killed him. Peter threw the antidote off the roof, and he lost it. She says if he tells the police what happened, there will be an investigation. He’ll lose precious time he needs to save Chase. Worse, he could go to prison, and Violet will lose another parent. He says, they can’t leave Peter there, and she picks up the passports. She says, these are passports with fake names. Maxie is Jennifer Brady. Does he think Maxie knows about this? Does he think Maxie consented to this? Peter was planning on taking Maxie someplace against her will. She won’t let Finn go to prison for killing a man who deserved to die. Finn says, the antidote is gone. Peter said, if Chase dies, it’s Anna’s fault, but it turns out, it’s going to be his. She says, it’s Peter’s fault, and no one else’s. He poisoned Chase and withheld treatment. Finn is Chase’s best chance for survival, but he can’t save Chase from behind bars. Finn says, they can’t leave him there.

There’s a knock at Brook’s door, and she tells Louise, it’s show time, sweetie. Michael comes in with Willow, and she says she didn’t know he was bringing a plus-one. He says he got the call when he was at the gatehouse, and Brook says, the more, the merrier. She can’t believe she thought she could drive herself home. She can barely be on her feet. Willow says, of course (🍷). She just had a baby; she’s beautiful. Brook says, she is. Ten fingers and ten toes. She’s really here. Michael asks, what happened? He thought she was visiting a friend. Brook says, that was the plan. While she was driving, she started getting contractions. Before she knew it, her water broke. She called her friend Cecilia, who, thank God, knew a doula in the area. After that, things were moving like a speeding train. She came there, then the doula came, then the baby came, then housekeeping came to change the sheets because… well, they get it. Anyway, mommy and baby are there safe and sound. Willow says, it must have been terrifying, and Brook says, it was something. Willow goes over to Louise, and tells Michael, look at her, and Michael says, hey you. Does she have a name? Brook says, Bailey. Baily Lois Quartermaine. He says, BLQ II, and Brook says, it has a nice ring to it, doncha think? Willow says, it’s perfect. Welcome to the world. She knows Bailey’s mama is so glad she’s there. Brook says, she sure is. She just wants to get her baby home, safe and sound. Michael says, that’s what they’ll do after they stop at GH, but Brook says, they’re fine. Michael says he’ll take her home once she and the baby have been looked at.

Laura tells Cyrus, she’s there; he can let them go. Portia says, let Trina go first, but Laura tells Portia that Trina will be right behind her. Go now. Portia walks out, and Laura tells Trina, it’s okay. They’re going to switch places. She’s going to step between Trina and Cyrus, and when she does, Cyrus will let her go, and she’s going to run to her parents. Do it on three. One…  She moves toward Cyrus. Two… She steps in between them. Three… run. Trina takes off, and runs to Portia, who holds her. Laura goes inside, and Cyrus says, welcome. Laura says she’s glad she’s there, and he says, if she’s truly there as his sister, she’ll treat him as her brother, not a criminal. She says, okay. Tell her how to do that. He says, take off the vest.

Laura removes the vest, and says, okay, vest off. She’s here as his sister. Cyrus says, she was the one who was so eager to join him. He’s guessing she has a particular conversation in mind. She says she does. She’s here because of his mother. She’s such a sweet woman. She knows this isn’t what his mother would have wanted for him. He laughs, and says, this is her plea? The woman who can barely tolerate being in the same room with him wouldn’t want this?

Jordan tells Doc, time to call in; make Cyrus believe they’re worried. He says, as if they’re not, and calls. Cyrus’s phone rings, and Laura says, he’s not going to answer? He says, they can wait. He’d rather hear more of her theories about his mother, who she’s met once. Laura says she just knows a mother’s love. She doesn’t think it’s in his mother’s nature to cut him out of her heart completely. He says, not everyone is her. The world is filled with terrible mothers. She says, if his mother’s so terrible, why does he care what she thinks? and he yells, because she’s his mother. She’s not terrible, she just disapproves of his choices. Laura says she thinks if his mother didn’t care at all, this… He says, this wouldn’t bother her? Okay, they have time to kill. Say he believes her. How would she suggest he go about opening his mother’s heart? She says, be the person his mother wants him to be, longs for him to be. Somewhere deep down inside is the little child she lost. Bring him back.

Curtis says, Laura is good, and Doc says, she is. Jordan asks if Doc thinks it will work, and he says, they’ll know soon enough.

Trina says Taggert came to get her; he wasn’t going to let Cyrus hurt her. Taggert says, not in a million years, and hugs her. Portia tells Curtis, she keeps seeing Cyrus holding the gun on Trina. She should have let him bleed out on her rug. Then she feels bad for thinking that, and she can’t stop shaking. Curtis says he gets that, and she says she thought he might. He says, the drama takes a long time to process. If she wants to talk, he wants her to know he’s here for her. Taggert thanks Curtis for talking him down; Portia and Trina mean the world to him. Curtis says, trust him. He gets it.

Cyrus tells Laura that she’s more his sister than she knows, and she says, how’s that? He says, she instinctively knows how to find a person’s weakness, then surgically drill down, and turn it into an asset. She won’t admit it, but she’s cruel. What else would drive her to wound him so? She says he’s so used to fighting with people, he can’t tell when someone is trying to help him. She doesn’t want to wound him. She cries, and says, she’s trying to save his life.

Anna tells Valentin, Maxie got Peter to confess to hiring the nurse who ultimately stole Maxie’s baby. Valentin suspects they’ve underestimated Maxie, and Anna says, she is a brave woman, but she’s in so much shock right now. She’s relieved the baby isn’t with Peter, but the potential outcome of the situation hasn’t gotten to her yet. She doesn’t know when it will.

On the phone, Mac says, search the whole building. He tells Maxie, sorry, and she says, they didn’t find Peter? He says, not yet, but when they do, Peter will give them the kidnapper’s real name.

Anna tells Valentin that she has to find Finn.

Finn tells Elizabeth he’s not sure about this, but she says, the police know Peter is on the run. All they have to do is let them think he got away. No one will ever know he’s dead. Finn looks down, and sees Anna at the reception desk. He comes down with Elizabeth, and Anna says, it’s about Peter. He had Maxie’s baby kidnapped. The woman that he hired to kidnap Maxie and deliver her baby, double-crossed him and took off with the child. He didn’t show up there with the antidote either. Elizabeth asks if they have any idea where he is, and Anna says, he disappeared, which is what she suspected he’d do. She tells Finn that she’s sorry, and Elizabeth says, it was a mistake to depend on Peter. The best thing for Chase, is to find an actual cure, and that’s what they’re going to do. Anna says, for what it’s worth (🍷), they have her word. As long as Peter is out there, she won’t stop looking for him.

Willow brings Brook into the hospital with the baby, and Brook says, Michael didn’t have to drop them off and park the car. She’s perfectly fine to sit there by herself. She sits down, and Willow says, it’s just an excuse to be around the baby. Brook says she can’t blame Willow for that. Willow leaves to find someone to help, and Maxie puts on her robe. She goes to the window, and Brook holds Louise up, so Maxie can see her.

Doc says he doesn’t like this. They need to get Cyrus back on the line. Curtis says, with Doc calling every few minutes, Cyrus won’t know that they can hear him. He’ll think he has the upper hand. Doc says, he does have the upper hand. His tone is starting to shift; he’s becoming more unstable. Jordan says they need to go in, and Curtis says, with anyone else, maybe. Doc says, but not with his wife? Curtis says he realizes he doesn’t know Laura the way Doc does, but he and Laura have been in some dangerous situations. She’s always cool. If it gets too dangerous, she’ll use the code word.

Laura tells Cyrus, help her save his life. Answer the phone, and tell them she’s okay. He asks why they’d trust him, and she says because he let Trina and Portia go; that’s good. It bought him time, but that time is running out. He says, if that’s true, it won’t end well for her, and she says, the only way it will end well, is if they both walk out together. He says, then what? He goes to prison, and she walks away. She steps back into her life; the life she had before he entered it. He’ll be back in Pentenville, and Martin, maybe she’ll accept him or maybe she’ll reject him completely. He doesn’t really care. She asks, then why bring him up? and he says, no matter what she thinks, Martin is his family; like his mother, and like her, and family matters to him. He cries, and she says, then let her save his life. He says, incarceration is not a life. He won’t throw away everything he’s achieved, everything he’s built, just so she can have him locked back up in solitary. He won’t be an afterthought or a bad memory.

Jordan tells her team to get in position, and wait for her signal.

Cyrus tells Laura, it’s simple. Either he walks out a free man, or neither one of them is getting out alive.

Tomorrow, Finn says Peter won’t bother Maxie again, Valentin meets (not) his baby, Cyrus says whatever happens to him happens to Laura too, and Carly asks Jason if he thinks she screwed up something.

Million Dollar Listing New York

Ryan was looking at a property in Brooklyn from developer Avi Fisher, who he’s had an ongoing business relationship with for a while now. Ryan said it was the most luxurious project in Brooklyn, and with 138 units, his potential commission was $8 million. Altogether, the property was 22,000 square feet, and 300 feet high. After showing Ryan the automatic valet garage – which was impressive, but I wondered what you did when you wanted your car back – Ari took Ryan to the 13th floor penthouse. I’d thought buildings pretended not to have 13th floors, but I guess builders aren’t superstitious anymore. In Ryan’s interview, he said, everything people went to Manhattan for, was now in Brooklyn. Their next stop was the rooftop deck, that had 360° views, which were fantastic. Ari said they’d bought the air rights, and in his interview, Ryan said this was done to keep views unobstructed, and they’d probably spent millions just on air. While Ryan thought this was a sure partnership, Ari said he wanted Ryan’s opinion, but at the end of the day, the company would do what was right for them.

With assistant Kemba and team member Josh helping him, Tyler had the open house for the 2nd floor apartment that was across from a police and fire station. It had been on the market for a year with no nibbles, when Tyler took over. Owner Robert had taken Tyler’s advice and, in addition to dropping the price to $2.1 million, spent $70 in staging. In Tyler’s interview, he said if he couldn’t get it sold, he was going to look like an a-hole. Being on the 2nd floor alone made it challenging, so Tyler rolled with the police/fire station issue by hiring gorgeous male models dressed as cops and firefighters. He said it captured the idea of safety and being prepared, but was mostly for distraction. He was bringing the outside, inside. He’d been hearing more about covid, and people were getting anxious, which was making him anxious. A broker called the models a walking calendar shoot, and Tyler decided that celebrating the UES and firemen had been a good idea. He’d also pointed out the soundproof, $10K each, windows. KJ showed up, and in his interview, Tyler said he felt uncomfortable. The last time she’d come to one of his opens, she took the opportunity to steal his business. KJ said she was selling another apartment on the 3rd floor, and wanted to get the vibe.

March 14, 2020. KJ said covid was starting to be on everyone’s mind. She met with her friend Stephanie, one of her European jet-set group, at Stephanie’s apartment. Stephanie said the apartment had been a passion project, but it was time to move; they needed more room. Stephanie had added a floor onto the building, bought the roof and air rights, and constructed a 1300 square foot penthouse. The penthouse had a glass NanaWall, a folding glass door that took up the entire wall, and led out to a sky terrace. The master closet was humongous, with sliding shelves, and clothes hanging behind clothes. KJ thought it was modern, but European. There were odd angles because of some rules about airflow from the Department of Buildings, since no one wanted a penthouse to blow off the roof. Stephanie wanted $3 million, but KJ said $2.895 million would get more people in the door. Not that Stephanie still wouldn’t make a huge profit.

Steve wanted to get more listings in the building where he lived. His end goal was to make the SoHo apartment his family’s forever home. His open for the Baxter Street apartment – the one that touched four different neighborhoods – had been packed and insane, but Steve was worried covid was going to affect his sales. A broker called saying the apartment was great, but the lobby was lacking, and Steve explained it was going to be renovated. I was surprised that he hadn’t made that clear to everyone who went to the open, since it was an obvious issue. He told the broker that he’d send renderings, and in his interview, he said he felt like he’d cracked the code. He also felt that if it didn’t get sold now, it wasn’t going to happen.

March 16, 2020. Ryan met with broker Barbara to show the gigantic townhouse ,but her client had canceled. In Ryan’s interview, he said, the NBA had canceled, Tom Hanks had covid, and restaurants were closing. Some people claimed the virus would hit them hard, but some people said it was just the flu. He wanted to be cautious, but didn’t want to stop life. He showed Barbara around the 11,000 square foot, 5 bedroom, 12 bath mansion townhouse, with a 2000 square foot master bedroom, housing a 6 foot in diameter soaking tub. While I’m at it, there was a two-story open chef’s (whatever that means) kitchen, and an enclosed dining terrace that had walls of piping where an ivy system (as Ryan put it) could be grown. There was a fitness center, an endless pool, a sauna, and steam room. Barbara said her clients would want to see it for themselves, and Ryan said he’d be happy to get them hazmat suits. After she left, Ryan called the office, but found out from assistant Jordan that the other two showings had canceled. Jordan said people were canceling by minute, and thought Ryan should go home and be with his family like everyone else. They could figure out the rest later.

March 17, 2020. Tyler got three offers on the 2nd floor apartment; one for $2 million, one for the asking price of $2.150 million, and one for $2.175 million, all cash. He’d met with broker Danielle who said her client was a single mom who wasn’t going to be interested in getting into a bidding war, ending Tyler’s fantasy about that. They discussed how unbelievable it would be for NYC to shut down, and Tyler said he couldn’t see it. In Tyler’s interview, he said, when you told a broker that you had other bidders in a down market, they thought you were playing a game. His gut told him to go with the all cash offer and wrap it up, especially with the virus looming. He called Robert, who agreed to go with it, and Tyler could smell his commission of $65,250. He told Danielle it was a deal, but she said her buyer had just called, and got cold feet after speaking to her finance guy, who said she shouldn’t go over asking price. Tyler said it would have been nice to know before he called the owner, and Danielle said, these things happened, and she was just kidding. They had a deal. In his interview, Tyler said, how dare she take his gay ass on an emotional roller coaster ride?

March 18, 2020. KJ said the virus had started to hit home. She had one kid whose school had closed. That meant it was a big deal. She headed for an apartment building on West 95th Street, which she said was an affordable luxury building. You could get a 2 bedroom for the same price as a 1 bedroom condo, and she was taking the smaller properties because she wanted a more diverse portfolio. She’d been helping to refresh and sell apartments in the 200 unit building since 2017. She met with the seller’s team, who seemed pretty antsy about sanitizing and social distancing before it was even fashionable. KJ checked out the 949 square foot apartment, and in her interview, she said that she loved being involved in the staging part of the process. If the apartment wasn’t big, they needed to stage to maximize space. Sometimes developers took her staging advice, and sometimes not, but they’d been agreeable in the past. The seller said KJ had sold 13 out of 22 apartments, and they had 13 they needed to move quickly. KJ suggested a price of $1.595 million, with her potential commission being $490K and change. She found out that her other kid’s school had been suspended for two weeks, then Stefano texted, saying the market was cleaned out. As KJ jetted from the building, a producer asked what the text was about, and she told them it was the school, leaving out the market part. She seemed close to tears, and said she just wanted to be home, and be with her kids. She thought this was going to affect everything deeply. Boy, we didn’t know the half of it then. What was interesting was, it was like I was feeling it as they were experiencing it. It was kind of weird.

March 19, 2020. Steve spoke to David, the owner of Baxter Street, and said he was hoping for more showings, and to bring David an offer soon. David said he was now working from home, and thinking of taking the apartment off the market. He had a reappreciation for the environment now, and couldn’t see living somewhere else. Steve asked if there was no way David would reconsider, but David said he couldn’t; no way. In Steve’s interview, he said it was his first client to have their work affected. He didn’t know if it was an overreaction, but he had to be sensitive to what was going on. He told David, as a broker, he should give David a bunch of reasons why he should sell it, but he was sympathetic to the situation.

March 20, 2020. Fredrik called his office in NYC, and said he was coming out, but his assistant Ellis said that offices were shutting down. They were no longer allowed in the office building. He thought Fredrik should stay in L.A. with Derek and the kids. Besides, flights were being canceled. They were worried about people backing out of deals because people were leaving NYC. In Fredrik’s interview, he said it was impossible to shut down NYC. He had 80 agents in 5 markets. This was something he’d seen in movies, but it usually involved vampires or zombies. He told Ellis to keep checking on flights.

3 hours later. Ryan said, non-essential businesses were being told to shut down. NYC was falling apart. There were stay-at-home orders for non-essential workers. WTF was going on? Things they’d thought wouldn’t happen, were happening. Shutting down NYC was impossible. Things happened in the world that were bad, but this was new. It wasn’t something that happened in the USA. He called Jordan, and said to tell the team to do what they wanted. He thought maybe they should take the listings off-market temporarily.

Next time, brokers in quarantine, phase-two reopening, and applauding essential workers.

🏰 They slid right into Ryan’s Renovation, where Ryan had gotten an 8000 square foot townhouse in Brooklyn for $7.6 million. He said, it was fine as is, but they didn’t want fine, and his small renovation turned into a full gut of the house. They started with September 2019, day 143 of the renovation. Construction manager David had taken a two-family house, and made it into one, putting in a staircase. They’d also made provision for Emelia’s mom Despina. In her interview, Emilia said that Ryan couldn’t live without her mom, but her mom came with her dad, her sister, her brother, and their people. You didn’t just get one; you got more. No surprise, the property was beautiful, and I was especially taken with the 26’ closet. That’s longer than my living room. Emilia said she and Ryan had different decorating styles. She tended to go for super moody. Ryan said he didn’t really have a particular choice, but he knew what sold, and buyers liked it bright.

Ryan moaned about the budget, saying there was always something wrong. He’d thought the renovation would run around $1.5 million, but they kept coming across roadblocks, like needing a steel beam reinforcement if they wanted to put in an elevator. He’d been off by $1.1 million, plus their June completion date had already been moved to August.

Ryan’s mom came to visit for Zena’s first birthday party. Emilia said there were going to be 65 people, and in Ryan’s interview, he said his family wasn’t super flashy or loud; not like the Greeks. They were conservative, and if they could have kept the same car for the rest of their lives, they would. He appropriated that quality in business, which made him cost effective and efficient, but he only had one life. He said the house was a never-ending renovation that might kill him.

I’m not sure what to say about Zena’s birthday party. I don’t think I’ve been to an adult party that elaborate, except for a wedding. Although I’ve never seen a ballpit at a wedding, let alone a white and gold one. The cake actually looked like a wedding cake, with a gold cherub playing a harp on top. You can’t tell me that was for a one-year-old who probably would have preferred something like SpongeBob. Ryan found out about another unexpected expense, and said, if one more bad thing happened, he was going to lose it.

Next time, Ryan is nervous to show the townhouse to Emilia’s dad, a house blessing, and Ryan is tempted with a $12 million offer.

👋 Hello, I Must Be Going…

Saving the tea for tomorrow, but tonight, stay safe, stay unbreakable, and stay not throwing elaborate parties for one year olds. They won’t remember it, so at least admit it’s for you.

June 2, 2021 – Maxie Calls Out Peter, Beverly Hills On Railbikes & Vibe

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

We see Peter lying at the bottom of the stairs, blood pooling around his head. A hospital employee runs down the stairs, and checks the pulse in his neck. There’s someone on the landing above, but all we see is a long, white sleeve. There’s a sign near Peter that says, Roof Access, and a smear of blood on the wall.

One Hour Earlier. In the ER, Deanna puts up an IV bag for Maxie, and says, Dr. Navarro wants her admitted. They’re just waiting for a room. Maxie thanks her, and Deanna asks if she can get Maxie anything or call anyone, but Maxie says, not right now. She just needs a minute. Deanna says she’ll be back in a minute to check on Maxie, and leaves. Maxie tells herself, you can do this. You can do this for your daughter. Peter comes in, and says he saw the nurse leave. She says, they’re going to admit her, and he says, what about the baby? What did Maxie mean when she said the baby was gone? Maxie says she keeps hoping this is some nightmare and she’s going to wake up, but she knows it’s not. She starts to cry, and says she knows that it’s real, and she feels so empty, it’s almost unbearable. He asks if Louise died in childbirth, but Maxie says she didn’t lose her. Peter says, thank God. Where is she? Where is their daughter? Maxie says, you know that nurse you insisted I hire, Chloe? He says, Nurse Jennings? What about her? Maxie says, it was so awful. She took her. She stole our baby.

Finn asks Elizabeth if she’s seen Peter. He was on his way to the hospital with a dose for Chase. I notice Finn is wearing – wait for it – a white, long-sleeved shirt. (DUN-DUN-DUNN!) She says, no sign of him, but she did hear the most unbelievable story about his baby.

Jackie and Gregory go into Chase’s room. Jackie tells Chase, Finn texted, and told them that he’d been readmitted. Gregory says he was hoping Finn would have found a cure by now, but he knows it’s not for lack of trying. Jackie asks if they can get Chase anything, and he says, yeah, his badge.

Anna sees Jordan at the hospital, and asks if she’s seen Peter. It’s important that she speak with him. Jordan says, no, but Anna is going to have to take a number. She just spoke with Gladys about the night Franco was killed. Anna asks what Gladys said, and Jordan says, more than enough for her to arrest Peter for murder.

Laura asks Curtis what Portia said, and he says, for a moment, it sounded like she was trying to tell him something urgent, then the phone went dead. Laura says, that’s strange, and he says he thinks Portia’s in trouble.

Cyrus says Portia is a doctor. She knows what kind of damage a bullet could do to Trina. Portia blocks Trina, and says, don’t. He says, no more stunts; no more tricks. That was very unprofessional. She took advantage of her patient’s momentary weakness to call her friend. Portia says, Curtis called her. If he’s suspicious now, it’s because Cyrus panicked, not her. Trina tells him, and people say he has ice water in his veins instead of blood. He says, if there’s any more blood spilled tonight, he can tell them this – it won’t be his.

Laura tells Curtis, before they jump to conclusions, call Portia back. He immediately gets voicemail, and Laura says, Portia is a doctor, right? Could she be on an emergency call? Curtis says, she picked up before, so if she was in the middle of a medical emergency, she wouldn’t have done that. He says he’s going to Portia’s house, and Laura says she’ll come with him.

Portia tells Cyrus, medically speaking, she’s done all she can do. The bullet is out. If he doesn’t want to risk infection, he needs to go to a hospital. It doesn’t have to be General Hospital, but he needs proper medical attention. Trina asks, what good it does him to be the boss of GH if he’s afraid to go there? He says he’s not sure which one of them he admires more. Portia, for her medical expertise, or her daughter for her attitude. Too bad he has to choose. Portia asks what he’s talking about, and he says, as much as he regrets leaving GH to other people, it’s time he says farewell to Port Charles. At least for now. Trina tells him, she’d say he’d be missed, but her mother taught her not to lie. He says, no need to worry on that count. They’ll be leaving town together.

Elizabeth tells Finn, Maxie had her baby. She gave birth in the middle of the woods somewhere. He says, all by herself? but Elizabeth says, no. Luckily, some country doctor was out for a hike, ran across her, and helped her deliver. He asks if Peter was there, and wonders if that’s why he hasn’t shown up with the dose for Chase. Elizabeth says, as far as she knows, Peter wasn’t involved.

Jackie asks why Chase wants his badge, and he says, because he’s a cop. It’s not just what he does; it’s who he is. He’s supposed to help people, instead, it’s doctors and nurses helping him. Gregory says he knows it’s hard to be patient, but he has to try. Jackie says Chase might need some alternative therapy, and she thinks she knows what it is.

Jordan tells Anna, Gladys was glad to recant her statement, and Anna says, the eyewitness account that led to Jason’s arrest? Jordan says, it was manufactured. Cyrus forced Gladys to accuse Jason of Franco’s murder. Anna says, she had to have seen something; she led them to the murder weapon, and Jordan says, she did. She saw Peter dispose of the murder weapon. Anna says, she saw Peter. That’s what she thought, and now it’s confirmed. If a jury believes her, it’s over for Peter. He’ll have to face the consequences of his actions. Jordan says they’ll have to get their hands on him first, and Anna asks if she’s put out an APB. Jordan says she’s advised everyone to use extreme caution. Peter should be considered armed and dangerous.

Peter says, Chloe was hired to help Maxie and Louise. He can’t imagine she’d run off, or do anything to harm Maxie. Maxie says she knows Peter checked Chloe out through her private nursing agency; she even interviewed Chloe herself, but she fooled all of them. He sits next to the bed, and says, it sounds awful; tell him everything. She says, Chloe drugged her, and took her to this house in the woods near some small town, Pawtuck. She said she wanted to induce Maxie’s labor, and Maxie managed to get away from her, but she wasn’t very far into the woods before her labor actually started. He says, and then what? and she says, then she gave birth in the woods. He says, by herself? and she says, as he knows, it’s not her first unconventional birth. That’s probably what kept her so calm, knowing she’d done it before. Maxie cries, and says, she was so beautiful, their perfect little Louise. He says, just like her mother. He knows this must be awful for Maxie, but please, tell him everything; he needs to know. She says, obviously, giving birth isn’t quiet. She couldn’t help but scream from the pain, and it wasn’t hard for Chloe to find her. Once she did, she claimed the baby was hers, grabbed her, and took off. He says, where? Where was she going? Maxie says she doesn’t know, and takes his hand, saying, she took her. She took their beautiful little girl.

Peter says he never imagined Chloe would do anything like this. He doesn’t know where she is, but he promises he won’t let anything happen to the baby. He’ll find their baby. He’ll find Louise and bring her back to them. Maxie says, how? Chloe could be anywhere by now. How will he find them? He says, traveling with a newborn isn’t easy. You have to make frequent stops. Diapers, formula, there would be security cameras. He doesn’t know where Chloe is, but he’ll find her. He gets up, but she grabs his hand, and says, Chloe is sick and twisted. He doesn’t know what she’s capable of. Do you know what she said? Chloe actually tried to convince her that she was working for Peter. That drugging her and taking her to that house to give birth was all his idea. Can he believe that?

Jordan tells Anna, she recorded Gladys’s statement on her phone. She made multiple copies, and forwarded one to the DA’s office, and Robert. Anna says, the wheels of justice are going to turn swiftly, and Jordan says, Anna had to know this day would happen sooner or later. Peter has damaged so many lives, including Anna’s. Please don’t shed a tear for him. Anna promises, no tears. He’s been on a self-destructive path for a long time. He deserves to pay the consequences – he really does – but Jordan has to bring him in alive. Jordan says, the PCPD will do their job, but if Peter resists arrest… Anna says, Peter is responsible for someone else’s life. Jordan has to bring him in alive.

Peter says, Chloe blamed him? and Maxie says, Chloe claimed Peter wanted her to give birth in the middle of nowhere. She said he was going to join them. She said he was going to take her and Louise, and the three of them were going to leave the country and never come back. He says, some people will say anything. It sounds like Chloe really wanted to get her hands on their baby. Maxie says, she knows Peter tried so hard to prove he’s not his father’s son. She starts crying again, and says there were times she doubted him. She let Anna and the others get to her. She knows how devoted he is to her and Louise, and knows he would never hurt them. Peter says, never, and hugs her. She says she just wishes Peter could access his dark side; the one that would do anything to get their daughter back, and damn anyone who gets in the way. He says, then that’s exactly what he’ll do, but Maxie says she can’t let him.

Finn finds Jackie and Gregory in Chase’s room, with Chase standing and leaning on Jackie. He tells Chase to get back into bed, but Jackie says she’s just taking him for a short walk. Chase asks, what’s the worst that can happen? He’s already in the hospital. Finn says he strongly recommends… that Chase enjoy his walk. Jackie leaves with Chase, and Elizabeth tells Finn that she knows Chase is frustrated, but he’s handling this like a champ. His family should be proud. She leaves, and Finn says, whatever grace Chase is showing, he learned from Gregory. He’s sure as hell failing Chase.

Peter tells Maxie, he’ll find their daughter and bring her back. Whatever it takes. She asks, what that means, and he says, threats, bribes, calling his father’s old associates; nothing’s off the table. She says he’s not going to do that. He worked so hard to reinvent himself. They should just let the PCPD handle this. He says, they have to follow protocol, and don’t even know where to look. She says, Mac is the head of detectives; he will find Chloe and Louise. Peter says, Chloe isn’t even her real name, and Maxie says, she hired Chloe. Now he’s telling her that’s not Chloe’s real name? How would he even know that?

On the phone, Cyrus says, what the hell do they mean, not available? Make himself available. Bring the car… They’ve obviously hung up, and Trina says, running out of friends? Portia says, don’t push it, and Cyrus tells her, listen to her mother. Trina says he already took her as a hostage once; she’s not going to be afraid of him again. He’s the one who should be afraid now. No one wants to help him. No surprise there. He asks if she thinks this is a game, that he’s holding a toy? Curtis and Laura are approaching the house, and Cyrus gets louder, and says, Trina thinks she can defy him and insult him, and he’ll do nothing? Curtis starts to run toward the door, but Laura says, wait. He kicks the door in anyway.

Peter says, everything else Chloe told them was fake, so she probably had a fake name too. Maxie says, Chloe’s not the only one who’s fake. The house Chloe took her to cost money. Chloe said when the baby was born, they’d be airlifted by a helicopter. That’s a little pricey on a nurse’s salary. He says, Chloe was clearly delusional, and she says, from the first day, Chloe had the uncanny ability to anticipate her every need. Not every pregnant woman has the same cravings or health issues, but Chloe seemed to know hers. There’s no way a new person in her life could have known her personal information, unless someone she knew was feeding it to them. Someone like him. Peter says he can’t believe Maxie would buy into what this woman told her. Like she said, Chloe was so sick and twisted. Maxie says, it takes one to know one, you demented son of a bitch.

Curtis stands inside the doorway, with Laura behind him, and Cyrus says, step back or he’ll shoot Portia… right after he shoots her daughter. Portia tells Curtis, just do what he says, and Laura says they’ve got to go; he means it. They leave, and Cyrus tells Trina to close the door. She starts to move, and he says, stop. He doesn’t trust her not to pull something. He tells Portia to close the door, and don’t try anything. His gun is aimed directly at Trina. Portia looks at Curtis and Laura, and closes the door. Curtis looks at Laura.

Jordan says, Peter poisoned Chase? and Anna says, Finn was the target. Peter wanted to hurt Finn in order to hurt her. Chase took the wrong glass or something, which makes her feel worse. Jordan says, but Peter has the antidote, and Anna says he was supplying it to her, as long as she followed orders. She had to facilitate his reunion with Maxie. He was parceling it out, one dose at a time. Jordan says, and Anna saw fit to clue her in just now? Anna knows how much she cares about Chase. Anna says, that was the deal; she couldn’t tell anyone, especially not Jordan, not with Chase’s life hanging in the balance. Peter is going to leave town. Jordan has to find him, because when he goes, the antidote vanishes with him. Jordan’s phone rings, and she tells Curtis, it’s not a good time. He tells her, Cyrus is holding Portia and Trina hostage at Portia’s house. He and Laura are outside right now; here she is. He gives the phone to Laura, who says, Cyrus is desperate, and he has nothing to lose. They need her there now. They need help. Jordan tells Anna that Cyrus is holding Portia and Trina hostage. She has to go, but her people will keep looking for Peter. Anna says she will too. Good luck.

Finn is looking in his microscope when Gregory walks in. Gregory asks why he gets the feeling Finn is avoiding him, but Finn sys he’s not. He’s trying to save Chase’s life. Gregory says, tell him the truth. He knows what’s wrong with Chase, doesn’t he?

As they walk, Jackie tells Chase, slow and steady. An officer walks up to them, and says Chase is missed back at the station. He hopes Chase is back on the job soon. Chase introduces the officer to his mother as Officer LaRue, and LaRue says Jackie should be proud of her son; he’s one of the best. She says he’ll get no argument from her. She’s incredibly proud of what he’s accomplished. She tells Chase that she thinks they should get back to his room. LaRue presses the elevator button for them, and says, hurry back, detective.

Peter says Maxie must be in shock. It’s understandable since their baby is missing; it’s the only explanation. She says, the only explanation? She can think of plenty of other explanations, and they all lead back to the same thing. You’re a horrible person, Peter. She cries some more, and says, correction, Henrik. It feels good not to pretend anymore. The only reason she did that was to protect the baby, but the baby is gone because of him. Does that hurt? She hopes so. She hopes he feels every bit of fear she felt every time he’d show up at her apartment, or her birthing classes, or anywhere else. She couldn’t get away from him. He says it’s her grief taking, and she says, it’s called the truth. Thank God Valentin and Obrecht stopped their wedding in time to tell her that her fiancé was a cold-blooded killer. Once she learned that, everything changed. Every time he smiled at her or touched her, she was repulsed. It took every ounce of her resolve not to run from him, screaming. His face crumples, and she asks, does that hurt badly, Henrik? She wonders if it’s as bad as what he did to Drew, or Franco, or any of his other victims. Was the real Chloe Jennings one of those? He says, she got in way, and he had to get rid of her, and Maxie says, because she put a star on Chloe’s resume? He says, it was for her and the baby. He had to eliminate anyone who got in the way. It’s not too late. She says, of course (🍷) it’s too late, you arrogant bastard. She lost the baby to a lunatic he brought into their lives to kidnap her. He says he’ll find Louise and bring her back, but she says he won’t get the chance. She recorded this entire conversation, every word he said. He tells her to give him that phone, but she says, no, and sends the file. She says, message sent to Mac. She’s sure it will only be minutes before the entire PCPD is listening to the conversation. Which means his next stop is prison.

Peter says, Maxie turned him in? He’s the father of her child; she loved him. She says she loved Peter. That man wasn’t real. Every kind, caring, thoughtful thing he did was to cover; a disguise. Because Henrik Faison is cruel, manipulative, and selfish to his core. She would say he’s as bad as his father, but he’s not. At least Faison was an evil genius. He’s just some cheap imitation knock-off. Deanna looks in, and asks if everything is okay, but Maxie says, no. Call security. Peter is a murderer, who had her kidnapped. Security needs to detain him until the cops get here. Deanna says she’s on it, and leaves, and Peter says he can’t believe Maxie did this. Maxie says she can’t believe he thought he’d get away with kidnapping her, and dragging her and her baby out of the country. He says he’s going to find Louise, and when he does, he’s coming back for her. He will. He runs out, and Maxie cries, her head in her hands. Deanna comes back, and says she notified security, but Maxie is kind of freaking her out. Is she okay? Maxie says she’s not, but she will be.

Finn tells Gregory, knowing what’s wrong with Chase isn’t the same thing as finding a cure. Gregory says, in other words, Finn can’t tell him. It’s okay; he’s not a doctor. Him knowing won’t change the situation. Finn says, he’s a doctor, and he hasn’t been able to change the situation. Gregory says it reminds him of the time Finn was in sixth grade, and failed American history, his field of expertise. Finn says he hid his report card, and Gregory says when he finally saw it, does Finn remember what he said? Finn tells him that he believes Gregory said, don’t try so hard to please him; just do his best because… Gregory says, because his best is good enough. It still is today.

Anna tells Elizabeth that she’s looking for Peter. Has she seen him? Elizabeth says, no, but she has seen Maxie. She was moved from the ER to the 4th floor. Anna asks if there was an issue with the baby, and Elizabeth says, Maxie had the baby. Anna asks why Maxie was in the ER, but Elizabeth doesn’t know for sure. Peter wasn’t present for the birth, and for Maxie and the baby’s sake, she hopes it stays that way.

Peter runs out the door to the stairs, panicking. He flashes back to what Maxie said to him, and runs upstairs toward the roof.

Crime scene tape is put up, and Curtis asks if Jordan told Taggert what’s going on. Jordan says, not yet. She needed to assess the situation. The last thing she wants if for Taggert to storm in, and try to take on Cyrus himself. Curtis says he had the same impulse. They heard raised voices, so he kicked the door in, and Cyrus threatened to kill Portia and Trina unless he backed off. Laura says, then they called her, and Jordan says she called a hostage negotiator. Maybe they can reason with Cyrus, and things will end peacefully. Curtis says, what if they don’t? and Laura says, he’s right. They don’t get to decide. Cyrus is holding all the cards.

Portia says, whatever she thinks of Cyrus, she recognizes that he’s an intelligent man. The house is surrounded. It’s time for him to give himself up. Cyrus’s phone rings, and Jordan tells him, there’s been enough bloodshed tonight. A hostage negotiator is on the way. In the meantime, maybe they can work things out, just her and him. He says, nothing would please him more. Now if she’ll kindly go away. She says he knows she can’t do that. How are the people who are with him? He says, fine… for now. She asks how he is. There have been multiple reports that he was shot on the pier. She assumes he chose Portia’s house for a reason. He says he can still hold a gun with a fresh clip in it. Although he only needs two bullets unless she gives him what he wants.

Jordan says, okay, she’s listening, and Cyrus says they’ll call this his exit strategy. The three of them are going to walk out, get in a car, and be driven to a private airstrip, where a private plane will take him and his new best friends far away. Once he’s safely out of the country, Portia and Trina will be free to return home. Jordan asks how he expects her to make that happen, and he says he’s sure his sister is listening in. She’s the mayor, and can make all that happen. Can’t you, sis? Laura says he gives her too much credit. His best… his only option, is to lay down his weapon and come out. Portia says, please, but he tells her, shut up. Jordan says, everything is on him; he has to demonstrate good faith. He asks what Jordan proposes, and she says, the only thing he can do. Release his hostages.

Jackie gets Chase back to bed, and Chase tells Finn not to blame his mom. He ran into a sergeant from work, and they had a nice chat. He felt like a cop again for a few minutes. Elizabeth asks to speak to Finn, and in the hallway, she says she thought he’d want to know, Peter is there. Apparently, he and Maxie had a huge argument in the ER. Deanna called security, and now they’re looking for him. She thinks he must still be in the hospital. He tells her to stay there; he’ll go. She says, Maxie turned him into the police. Peter is desperate and dangerous.

Deanna tells Anna, absolutely not. Her patient needs rest. Anna says, she spoke to Elizabeth. She said Maxie and Peter had a huge argument… Deanna asks if Anna didn’t hear her the first time. Her questions will have to wait. Anna says she has to find Peter before the police do, and Maxie asks how she knew Mac was looking for Peter. Anna says, it’s not just Mac; it’s the entire PCPD. She’s sorry, but Peter is wanted for Franco’s murder.

Peter goes up the stairs, and gets to the roof. He makes a call, and says, listen carefully. There’s been a change in plans. They’re no longer landing in Pawtuck, and it’s no longer two passengers, it’s just one. Come to the roof of General Hospital in Port Charles. Understood?… Hurry. He walks to other side of the roof, and calls again. He says he’s there at the heliport. Where are they? He needs them now. Hurry. He’s waiting; go. He goes up the ladder to the heliport, while Finn walks up the stairs inside. Finn sees the sign that says, Roof Access.

Cyrus tells Jordan, it’s a two-way street. He’s not giving her something for nothing. Call her people, and make arrangements for him to leave, or he’ll be forced to make an example of someone. She says, it doesn’t help anyone to escalate, and he says, he’s just being practical. Two hostages are one too many. Curtis puts Jordan’s phone on mute, and says they don’t have time to wait for a hostage negotiator. She says, what’s the alternative? She sure as hell can’t give him what he’s asking. Curtis says, promise to give Cyrus everything he’s asking for, keep the police presence outside, and he’ll sneak in by himself and disarm Cyrus. Jordan says, that’s a non-starter, and he tells her that she just said there was no alternative. She says, he’s not a policeman. If she sends him in there, and something goes wrong, the PCPD will face so many lawsuits, it will bankrupt the city. Besides, anyone going in there increases the risk of Portia and Trina getting caught in the crossfire. Curtis says she heard Cyrus say two is too many, and Jordan says, he’s posturing. Curtis says, he’s desperate. If he feels like things are about to go down, Cyrus could kill both of them out of spite. Laura says there is another option, and gets on the phone. She tells Cyrus, she’s not talking as the mayor, but as his sister. Cyrus says, please. How big of a fool does she think he is? She made it clear that she despises him, and thinks their relationship is just an accident of biology. Now she expects him to buy into the fantasy that it’s not too late to be a family? She says she’s not saying that She’s trying to bargain with him. He’s looking for a hostage, so here’s an offer. Let Portia and Trina go, and take her instead.

Deanna tells Anna that she’s putting her foot down. Maxie just gave birth, and not in hospital, and without pain meds in a forest. Her body has been through a tremendous situation, and she needs to rest.  Maxie says she appreciates Deanna having her back – she really does – but she thinks it’s important for her to talk to Anna. Deanna asks if Maxie is sure, and Maxie says she is. She thanks Deanna for taking care of her, and Deanna tells Anna, do not upset her. Anna promises she won’t, and Deanna leaves. Maxie says, so it’s true? and Anna says, yeah. Gladys amended her statement to the police. Apparently, Cyrus forced her into accusing Jason, but it was actually Peter she saw disposing the weapon. There’s an APB out on Peter, and she has to find him before the police do. Maxie says, to help Chase? and Anna says, Chase was readmitted a few hours ago. Finn is doing everything he can to beat the toxin, but Chase needs another dose of the antidote now. His life depends on finding Peter. Maxie says, another life depends on never finding Peter, and Anna asks, did something happen to her baby?

Jackie feels Chase’s forehead, and tells Gregory, he’s still so warm. It’s not healthy for someone to have a fever for an extended period. They can’t let anything happen to Chase. Gregory says he’s sure it’s a comfort to Chase to know they can still be in the same room at the same time. She says she’s grateful too, and Gregory says they’re still a family – all of them. Elizabeth comes by, and Jackie says, Chase is so hot. Gregory asks if Finn is coming back, and Elizabeth says, Finn is getting Chase the help he needs.

On the phone, Peter says he doesn’t see them. Where the hell are they? Call him back. He goes back down the ladder from the heliport, and looks at the fake passports for him and Maxie. His phone rings, and we see a helicopter close by. He says he’s paying them to be where he wants them to be, when he wants… He doesn’t care. He’s in a hurry, and he’s got to get the hell out of there. Finn appears, and says, Peter isn’t going anywhere.

Tomorrow, Finn tells Peter to give him what he needs to save Chase’s life, Maxie tells Anna that Peter has no idea where their daughter is, Brook tells Little Lu that they have a long road ahead, Michael says he changed his mind, and Portia tells Trina to run.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Crystal asked Sutton if she’s one of those girls who says they don’t see color; she thought that was brushing it under the rug. Kyle said she’d been up at night thinking about her conversation with Garcelle, and Sutton said she looked at someone as a person, not a race. In her interview, she said, that’s bad, why? Crystal said she was proud of her race, and Kyle said Sutton meant she saw all people equally, but Crystal was saying it wasn’t a good way to word it. In Crystal’s interview, she said Sutton’s perspective was outdated. She told Sutton that they should agree to disagree, but Sutton wondered, on what? Kyle thought they both had good intentions, but weren’t going to see eye to eye.

Amazing food was cooked by the chef in the morning, and LisaR, Garcelle, and Erika came to breakfast wearing sunglasses. Kyle said Kathy had been drinking Red Bull at 1 am, while reading the paper. She asked what the plan was for the day, and LisaR said, a bike ride on the railroad tracks. They discussed the (then) upcoming election, and LisaR said when she was on The Apprentice, Trump had been professional, and nothing like he was now. In her interview, she said she never imagined a reality star being POTUS. She did not see that coming. Sutton had a private talk with Crystal, and said she didn’t want Crystal to think she was insensitive. Crystal said she believed Sutton saw everyone equally, and Sutton said what set her off was Crystal asking if she was a girl who said she didn’t see color. Crystal said it was confusing. She saw friends as Black, white, or whatever, and knew she was Asian. Sutton said it struck a nerve, and Crystal said she’d been attacked for being Asian. In her interview, she talked about when she was a child and her dad was accosted by a racist at a gas station. He’d obviously been scared, but never said a word on the way home. She explained to Sutton that the turn of phrase makes it seem like her culture doesn’t matter, and Sutton said she never meant to offend Crystal. Sutton also told her own story about being in an elevator, and when a guy heard her accent, he asked if she was a racist. Crystal said she appreciated the conversation, and they hugged, even though Sutton is not a hugger.

On the way to the railbike place, Crystal told the women she’d been named for Crystal Gayle and Krystal Carrington. In Garcelle’s interview, she said, if she’d been named after them, she would have kept it to herself. When they got to their destination, the railbike manager said they’d just had a group of senior citizens, and Garcelle told everyone that they had this. In Sutton’s interview, she said she was not looking forward to this. She was a dancer, so she was coordinated, but when you danced, you were in control. You weren’t in control on a bike. She didn’t like heights, and hated elevators, tall buildings, and roller coasters. She liked being on the ground. It looked like fun, but seemed kind of scary because you’re basically out in the open with no protection as this thing hurtles along. Erika and LisaR paired up, which I thought was appropriate. Crystal and Dorit went with them, and on the other bike were Kyle, Sutton, and Garcelle. On the way back, Sutton and Crystal talked some more, and Sutton said her mom was from Charleston, and was a real piece of work. Crystal said her dad had passed away three years ago, and he’d had Alzheimer’s. In her interview, Sutton said that her dad had been mentally ill and depressed. He’d died 18 years ago, and not a day went by without her thinking about him. When someone brought up their father’s death, it opened her heart up. Garcelle had a quick nap in the back of the limo bus.

Kathy, who’d passed on the railbikes, had put shampoo in her eyes, instead of eye drops. I’m not surprised, since she seems like a real ditz. Erika, Garcelle, Dorit, and Sutton sat outside, talking, and Erika said she consented to let people be who they were, since she liked to be herself. It was one of the things she liked about Tom; he let her be herself. Well, that sure went sideways, eh? Sutton refused to say how much her furry slippers cost, and Kyle looked them up online, finding out they were $2K. Garcelle said she was judging. Kyle said if she put on a dark wig, she looked like Paris (Hilton, not the city). Garcelle said Paris was now using her real voice, and it had surprised her. Kathy said she thought Paris was more confident now, and Garcelle said it drove her nuts when she’d see Paris on her phone at an event. She wondered why Paris was there. Kyle said the phone was a prop because Paris had felt uncomfortable. In Kyle’s interview, she said she was glad she and Garcelle had patched things up before the trip. Otherwise she would have been upset that Garcelle was judging someone in her family.

In LisaR’s interview, she said her situation with Garcelle wasn’t changing overnight. She wasn’t 100% comfortable, and she didn’t think Garcelle was either. They were being polite and cautious. The women went to a restaurant called The Bistro, and agreed it was a big deal after being inside for so long during the pandemic. In her interview, Kyle said even though Kathy was her older sister, Kathy had never done a girls trip, and she felt protective. Happy sister, happy life. Kathy told everyone to raise their glasses, and thanked LisaR for planning the beautiful weekend. LisaR talked about how as she was about to launch her lip liner, covid hit, and it was hard to get things manufactured. It was coming out on Black Friday. Sutton said it would break the internet, and LisaR said they were wearing masks, and she was selling lipstick. LisaR asked, what happened last night? and Sutton said the conversation had turned to race. She felt, being Southern, she had to defend herself against being automatically thought of as a racist. In Erika’s interview, she said, growing up in the South, she’d heard racist things, but no one had ever accused her of being racist. Sutton said people had a preconceived notion, and Dorit said it was the first time she’d heard this, but Sutton clearly had a Southern accent. She suggested maybe it was because she and Erika lived in a multicultural world that they’d never felt that way, but Sutton said that wasn’t fair. She also lived in a multicultural world. In her interview, she said she’d lived in New York, London, L.A., and Paris. She didn’t just arrive from some hick town. Dorit wondered why Sutton was being sensitive. In Garcelle’s interview, she felt Sutton was fragile right now. Things were hitting Sutton too hard, and she thought everyone should lay off a little. I have to mention that Garcelle’s interview hair was powder blue, and looked gorgeous. Kathy suggested they do a bottom’s up with a martini, and in her interview, she said it was a girls trip, and they were going to have fun. The ones who didn’t want to have fun could watch. Kathy and Dorit chugged their martinis, and LisaR said, those bitches are hard core. In Erika’s interview, she said she was impressed. Kathy wanted to do another, and Garcelle asked how bad she wanted to feel tomorrow. Dorit asked if LisaR would like to join in, and LisaR said she had one life to live. Erika said she’d do one too, and the whole thing seemed stupid. LisaR asked what time the after-party started, and in her interview, Kathy revealed that she and Dorit were just drinking water. In Dorit’s interview, she said, it was genius. In Kathy’s interview, she said she had no idea Erika and LisaR were in on the prank, and in Sutton’s interview, she said she knew something was up.

On the way back, Sutton said when there was a joke, and she wasn’t in on it, it freaked her out. Crystal gave her a kick, and whispered that they didn’t want Kathy to know she was the brunt of the joke. In Garcelle’s interview, she said, nobody was trying to keep Sutton out of it, but you don’t tell everyone that it’s a prank. Sutton said she was going to bed, and Kyle wondered what she’d missed. Sutton said she didn’t want to do this, and in Crystal’s interview, she said Sutton was highly insecure. If it wasn’t about her, or she wasn’t included, she thought somehow that she was the victim of something. She should win an Oscar for drama queen. Sutton asked who was in on the joke, and they raised their hands. She said, everyone but her; that wasn’t nice. Garcelle said Kyle didn’t know, and detective Crystal figured out that Erika, LisaR, and Kathy were playing a joke. In LisaR’s interview, she said her head was blown off. She didn’t know how it became so complicated. In Erika’s interview, she said Kathy thought she’d downed a real martini. It made her happy because it was always good to prank the prankster. Sutton said she’d never had a friend kick her, and being told she was ridiculous, wasn’t the nicest thing. Crystal said, sorry, and in Garcelle’s interview, she said she thought Crystal was being tough on Sutton. She and Sutton hadn’t hit it off at first either. Right now, Crystal and Sutton’s energy wasn’t vibing. In Crystal’s interview, she said Sutton was proving that she was the kind of person Crystal thought she was. You can’t rationalize with irrational people.

On the phone with a friend, Crystal said it was really sad, and made it sound like Sutton was going after her. She said, no loss to her, and that Sutton’s unhealthy level scared her. She was losing her mind. Sutton had decided to be nice, and bring up Crystal’s coat that she’d left in the living room. She knocked on the door, and…

To be continued.

Next time, a boat trip, playing pool, water ballet, and Crystal calls Sutton crazy.

📸 My take: I’ve said a few times that I like Sutton, but she is eccentric. Not crazy though. She is insecure to a certain degree, but just needs to be reassured she’s one of the gang now and then, and don’t yell at her. I’m also probably the only one in the world who loves her fashion sense, but I used to wear crazy sh*t in the 80s, and I still love those clothes, even if I wouldn’t wear them today. I don’t think Sutton is mean-spirited, racist, or any other negative thing either, and for whatever reason, Crystal is acting like a mean girl. I read she’s 35, but she seems a little immature, and I wonder if she has her own insecurities. As always, I love Garcelle, who’s always the voice of reason. And I agree with her, Sutton is being picked on. and they should lay off. I also thought, for people who claim to be all about empathy, they have a hard time grasping that someone else’s experience might not be their own.

🐄 Before the Cows Come Home…

I’m hoping to get off here early (for me). Tomorrow, Ryan renovates, and there will be plenty of time for tea. Until then, stay safe, stay ambitious, and stay consenting to let people be themselves, but do it better than Erika.

⚠️ Warning: Possible nasty words.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Peter lies at the bottom of the stairs, blood pooling around his head. A hospital employee runs down the stairs, and checks the pulse in his neck.

Two hours earlier. Maxie tells the baby, they did it. She’s so beautiful, even more than Maxie could have imagined. She’s sorry Louise’s entrance into the world was so bumpy. She checks Austin’s pulse, and says, come on. He has to be okay. Little Lu is okay because of him. She wishes she never had to let Louise go, but she has to do what she needs to do, to protect Louise. Her dad is not a good guy, and she can’t let him hurt Louise like he’s hurt so many others.

At the hospital, Finn tells Anna that Chase needs another dose of the antidote, and Anna moves quickly to the elevator. Michael and Willow have been watching, and Elizabeth comes out, saying she needs Finn. Finn starts to leave, and Willow says, stop. She’s been watching him and Anna exchange looks and coded phrases. Chase thinks Finn isn’t being honest about his condition. What is he keeping from Chase? Finn says he can’t get into it now, and she asks if it’s more serious than he’s been telling them.

Brando asks the doctor how his mom is, and she says, Gladys is out of surgery. She’s going to pull through. He asks how soon he can see her.

At The Savoy, Curtis flashes back to Portia kissing him, Laura walks in, and asks if it’s too late. He says, for her, never, and she says, flattery will get him everywhere, and everything. She shows him his liquor license in a frame, and says she thought it deserved a special delivery. He can officially open his doors now. He thanks her, but seems distant, and she says she was expecting more enthusiasm. He says, it’s a big deal, and she says, absolutely. Why isn’t he celebrating?

Portia gets home, and finds her door unlocked. She goes inside and looks around. She sees a trail of bloodspots on the floor, and turns around to see Cyrus, bloody and disheveled, with his ponytail undone. He says, welcome home, Dr. Robinson, and she tries to leave, but he blocks the door, showing her that he has a gun. She asks what he’s doing there, bleeding all over her home, and he says he wound up on the wrong end of a bullet. Naturally, he thought of the best doctor in his employ. I will say this again. If you ever come home to find your door unlocked, and you know you locked it, don’t go in.

Brook finds Maxie, and asks why Maxie didn’t tell her that she was giving birth in the woods. Good thing she wore flats. She sees Austin, and asks, who’s that? Maxie says his name is Austin, and he’s a doctor, and Brook asks why he’s out cold. Maxie tells her to brace herself. She has a lot to tell Brook.

In his office on the phone, Peter says he’s tired of getting voicemail. They’re supposed to be at the cabin. Call him back. Anna comes in, and he asks her if he can help with something. She asks if he’s going somewhere.

Elizabeth tells Finn that she needs his help with a notation in Chase’s chart, and Michael asks if Finn knows something he’s not telling them. Willow says, this has been going on for weeks. If he knows something, tell them, so they can be prepared. Finn says, he knows it’s difficult to hear, but Chase’s condition is more serious than he thought, and he’s no closer to finding a cure. Chase is getting worse.

The doctor tells Brando that his mother still has recovery to deal with, and he asks if he can see her now. The doctor advises against a lot of talking, but he can sit with her. Jordan walks away, and Brando thanks the doctor. Sasha tells Brando to go see his mom. She’ll be there.

Jordan calls the station, and says she has an update she wants them to pass along to Dante. Gladys is out of surgery, and it looks good… Jason Morgan is in custody? She’s still finishing up there. Any eyes on Cyrus?… Dammit! Keep looking for him.

Curtis tells Laura that she has no idea how many phone calls it took him to get the license. Timing seems to be a thing with him. She asks if something is going on. He can talk to her. He knows they’re friends, right? He says, they sure are. That’s what happens when you save each other’s lives more than once. He’s wondering where to put the license, and places it behind the bar on a shelf. She says, it’s visible, but not obvious, unlike his attempt to change the subject. He says she doesn’t want to hear the sordid details of his love life, but she says she absolutely does; come on. He says he was wondering, how soon after a marriage ends, is too soon to move on?

Portia says Cyrus doesn’t need the gun. She’s a doctor, and took a vow to heal people, no matter who those people are. She can stop the bleeding and get him stable until the ambulance comes. He tells her to put the phone on the table. It has to be handled there. She says he’s mistaken her home for an OR. He needs to go to the hospital. He says, context, doctor. He can’t go to a hospital. Can she imagine why that might be? She says, they’re finally on to him. He wants her to patch him up while he plans his escape from Port Charles? He says he’s relying on her expertise, and she says, really? He terrorized her family for years, he trafficked in drugs, and caused the deaths of countless people. Maybe the world would be better off without him. He says, what about her oath? and she says, keeping him from doing more harm might be keeping her oath. He tells her that she’s being foolish. Trina walks in, and he says, that changes the calculous now, doesn’t it?

Curtis tells Laura, all the drama he and Jordan went through to get together, and by the time they signed the papers, the marriage was already over. Laura says he went through the five stages of grief before there was a death, and he says he didn’t take the end of his marriage lightly. She says she supposes he didn’t, and he asks if she had the same feeling when she got together with Doc. She tells him, her divorce was long over with, but she was still gun shy. She and Doc were friends first. He says, it was the same for him and Portia, and she says, Portia is a lovely person. He says they knew each other back in the day, and reconnected about a year ago. The whole time he was going through problems with Jordan, she was there for him… as a friend. She gave him space when he needed it, and showed up when he didn’t want to sit alone. It meant a lot. She says, if he wants her advice, go slow and see where it goes. He says, excellent advice, except he thinks he killed it tonight.

Portia tells Trina, just stay calm, and Cyrus asks if she heard her mother. Stay calm, and everything will be okay, as long as they listen to reason. Portia says he came to her for help. Let Trina go, and she’ll help. He tells her, don’t be naïve. She’s going to treat him, and Trina will help. The alternative would be unfortunate. Portia tells Trina to get her bag, and Cyrus says, do that, and come right back. Trina says, but… and Portia says, just do it. Cyrus says, before Trina goes, put her phone down. She does, and he says, good girl. Now get her mother’s medical bag. Play it smart, and they’ll all walk away alive.

Sasha thanks Jordan for letting Brando see his mother first. She knows Jordan must want to question Gladys, and Jordan says she has no idea. She’s going to respect the doctor’s advice, but it’s a difficult balance, since time is usually of the essence.

Brando sits next to an unconscious Gladys, and says he didn’t want her caught up in this. He’s so sorry. They’ve been at odds for so long, it took something like this for him to see how unimportant it all is. What a waste of time. He loves her. She squeezes his hand, and opens her eyes.

Elizabeth tells Finn, sorry; it can’t wait. Finn tells Willow, sorry, and leaves with Elizabeth. Michael asks if Willow is okay, and she says, not at all, and hugs him.

Elizabeth says she hopes Finn isn’t mad at her for running interference. He says she did him a favor. He was seconds away from telling Willow and Michael everything. She says, it’s okay; he had a moment. He’s tired. He’s barely been sleeping and eating, and he’s scared about someone he loves. He says he can’t find a damn cure, but Elizabeth says, he’ll beat this. There’s no way they’re going to let Peter win. Not again.

Peter tells Anna that he’s cleaning out his safe because this is no longer his office. He sold the magazine to a private investor. The transaction happened quickly, but he turned a profit. She says, congratulations. It will be a loss to journalism. He says, how much of a loss? The only point of having it was to present himself as an upstanding member of society. She says he was given chances, but what did that do for him? She has to be accountable for her choices, and he should be accountable for his. He says she keeps telling him that. If she can prove he’s guilty, she can arrest him. Oh, wait. She has no evidence. Even if she had, there’s nothing she could do. She still needs something from him. Is he right? Isn’t that why she’s really there?

Maxie says, the ambulance is on its way, and Brook tells Austin, hang in there; help is on the way. Now let her get this straight. Maxie lured her psycho nurse into the woods where she fell into a mine shaft? It’s absolutely genius. She looks at Louise, and says, she’s so beautiful. She’s gorgeous, and a little trooper. And Maxie, what she’s been through. Maxie says she doesn’t know what came over her to give her the strength she needed. She tells Brook to take Louise, but Brook says the nurse can’t hurt her now. Maxie says, but Peter can. Now is the perfect time to go through with their plan. Brook says, wait, but Maxie says, it was Brook’s idea. Brook convinced Maxie that she could keep the baby safe from Peter. Was it a scam? Brook says, no, and Maxie says, Peter hired Chloe to drug her, kidnap her, and force labor. That’s not a rational person. He’s not going to change or stop. Brook told Maxie that she’d keep the baby safe from Peter with her and Valentin. Please, Brook has to take her.

Brook says, give her minute, and Austin stirs. Maxie says they don’t have a minute; the ambulance is almost there. Take her. Brook asks if Maxie doesn’t want to say goodbye, but Maxie says, if she does, she won’t want to let go. Brook says, if she doesn’t, she won’t forgive herself. Maxie tells Louise, it’s okay, Lu. Go with Auntie Brook Lynn now. She’ll take good care of you until I come back to you. She has a family that loves her very much, and is waiting for her to come home. Until then, Maxie will stay close by, watching over her, and making sure she’s okay. She’ll be thinking about Louise all the time. Just remember, I love you very much. She hands Brook the baby, and Brook says she’ll make sure Louise is loved. Brook starts to walk away, and turns back. She says, for what it’s worth (🍷), Maxie is the bravest person she knows. She leaves, and Maxie sinks to the ground, crying.

Anna tells Peter, Chase needs another dose, and he says, fine. It’s not a problem for him to hold up his end of the bargain, since she held up hers. She suggests they go grab it, and she’ll take him to the hospital, but he says, nice try. That’s not how it works. She can go back to the hospital alone, and he’ll meet her there with the vial. She says, fine, and he says he’ll be seeing her. She says she really did try to love him. She tried to believe there was good in him, but she doesn’t think he believes there’s good in himself. He was playing a part, and everyone saw it before she did. Eventually, she saw him too; the real him, not who she wanted to see. He asks if she’s done, and she says, actually, she’s not. He was given so many choices in his life. There were forks in the road where he could choose light or dark along the way, but he kept choosing the dark. Everyone is going to see who he is now. Everyone. She says, now she’s done, and leaves.

Finn tells Elizabeth that he has no way to isolate the toxin, but she says, as long as Chase is breathing, Finn has a chance to find a cure; find a solution. It’s what he does. He’s a gifted researcher, and has saved lives. He’s going to save Chase. He says she has a lot of faith, and she says, Peter took Finn’s relationship with Anna from him, and took her husband. He doesn’t get to take anything else.

Brando tells Gladys that she’s in the hospital; she’s safe. Cyrus can’t hurt her. She says she got shot in the warehouse. She thought she was going to die. He says she thought wrong, and she says he saved her, but he says, only after she put her neck on the line for him in the first place. She says she didn’t have much choice. Whatever happened between them, she going to do everything she can to do right by him, and the baby on the way. She smiles.

Jordan gives Sasha a can of ginger ale, and says she imagines it’s more challenging with Cyrus. Sasha says she knows he’s still out there. It should be a happy time, but Cyrus corrupted it, like everything he touches. She hates the way he leers at her. Brando says she pokes the bear too much, but she wants to let Cyrus know he’s not in control of her, and she’s not afraid of him, even if she is. Jordan says she has experience in how Cyrus treats women; his misogyny. He wants to conquer strong, powerful women, and bribes or flatters them. Sasha says she just wants to survive him, and hopes he leaves her alone now.

Curtis says he doesn’t want to hold Laura up with his personal problems, but she says, not at all. She likes that he trusts her enough to confide in her. He says maybe he shouldn’t be. For the record, nothing happened while he was married to Jordan. he wouldn’t let his mind go there. She says she believes him, but now that he’s single, his mind can go wherever it wants. He thinks his mind didn’t get the message. He knows his marriage is over, but it still felt like betrayal.

Cyrus asks what the situation is, and Portia says she has to remove the bullet. It’s a difficult procedure, and very delicate. If she makes the wrong move, she could paralyze his arm. He says then he’d better not flinch, and she better not make the wrong move. She says he’ll need a sedative to relax him, but he says he doesn’t think so.

Gladys says, after what Brando did, she knows he loves her, and knows he’d do anything to protect his kid. He’s going to make a great dad. He kisses her hand, and says she should rest. Jordan knocks at the door, and Gladys tells her, come in. Jordan walks in with Sasha, and says she was told Gladys was conscious and talking. Brando says his mother needs to rest. She’s not up to questions now. Gladys says she wants to talk; she has to. Jordan says she does have some questions for Gladys, and Gladys says she’ll answer all of them, but she needs to get something off her chest first. Something that will put a stop to all this.

Portia says Cyrus came into her home for her to treat his wound, so let her treat it. He says the second he’s out, she’ll call the police, but she says if she doesn’t administer a sedative, he’s likely to pass out from the pain. He says trust him; he’s no stranger to pain. She tells him have it his way, and asks Trina to grab a wooden spoon from the kitchen. He asks if someone is baking, and she says she’s been doing triage her whole life. If he knows pain, that’s fine with her, but he’ll need something to bite on.

Curtis tells Laura, talk about an awkward way to handle it. Portia couldn’t get out fast enough. He’s attracted to her, but when she kissed him, he froze. She took it as disinterest, and now she’s upset, and he’s conflicted and confused, and talking like a teenage boy instead of handling it like a grown-ass man. She says she’s sure if he talks to Portia, she’ll understand, but he says, first he has to explain how he’s feeling to himself. She says, it’s not uncommon. In her own case, she doesn’t know how objective she can be about measuring when is too soon to move on. She thinks your heart tells you. If this year taught them anything, it’s that their lives count. Time with their loved ones can be unbearably short. Why delay happiness, especially when it’s right in front of you?

Michael says Willow looks upset, and she says she shouldn’t have lashed out at Finn. He’s working as hard as he can. Michael says he wouldn’t call that lashing; he calls it being assertive. She says, who is she to demand answers from Finn? She feels that, not physically, but emotionally and spiritually, she’s not being honest. Michael says she’s just trying to help, but she says, is she helping?

Anna gets back to the hospital, and Finn asks if she found Peter. She says Peter told her that he was bringing the dose to the hospital, but he says she doesn’t sound confident.

On the phone, Peter says, voicemail again? He really wants to know where the hell Chloe and Maxie are.

Austin asks, what happened? and Maxie says he was attacked, but he’ll be okay. She used his phone to call for help. An ambulance will be there. He says, got it. Um… So, Miss Maxie, where is the baby?

Willow asks if Michael remembers when they were talking in the foyer. She looked up, and saw Chase there before he passed out. In that moment, she was stricken with wondering how much Chase heard. She felt so guilty and ashamed. Michael tells her not to feel ashamed to help Chase by giving him hope, and she asks if giving him hope is what she’s doing. Lying, sneaking around, hiding their love; it’s tarnished them. It’s eating her up inside. What should be joyful, now feels wrong. Michael says it doesn’t to him, and Willow says, it’s not wrong… but it’s not right.

Jordan says Robert and Diane finalized the immunity deal, and Gladys asks if Jordan has it on her. Jordan says, no, but it’s on her desk, ready to be signed. Gladys says she’s not up to going to Jordan’s office, so there’s no time like the present. Brando says Gladys should talk to her lawyer, and Sasha says, Gladys might want to make sure it’s the deal she wants. Jordan says she can call Diane if it will give Gladys more confidence, but anything she says that will lead to Cyrus’s arrest is greatly appreciated. Gladys says, the most important thing is setting things right. She’s ready now. Jordan starts to record, saying it’s Gladys’s statement from her hospital bed, and the witnesses are Brando and Sasha. She asks what Gladys wishes to say, and Gladys says her name is Gladys Corbin. The reason Cyrus grabbed and kidnapped her, and tied her up in a warehouse, was to prevent her from telling the police the truth. Jordan says, that truth is? and Gladys says, Jason Morgan is not who she saw dispose of the gun that shot Franco. She never saw Jason dump the gun. She only said it because Cyrus made her lie, and that’s the God’s honest truth.

Portia marvels that Cyrus still doesn’t need to bite the spoon, and Trina says he’s taking a chance. Her mother could cut an artery on purpose. She could kill him, and make it look like an accident. Cyrus says he knows Portia is a dedicated doctor. She took her sacred oath seriously. That’s why he trusts her, but he can’t trust Trina. That’s why he’s holding the gun.

Curtis tells Laura that he has a question. How would she feel if she kissed a man, and he backed away? She says she thinks she’d do what Portia did, and he says he can’t believe he messed things up. She says he just has to be honest with himself. Is he interested in perusing Portia more, or does he feel like he’s not ready? He says he thinks he’s ready, but he probably blew things. He has a history of pulling out of relationships with Portia. It’s complicated, and was a long time ago. He’s amazed they reconnected, but after today, he’ll be lucky if she puts him in the friendzone. She asks how long ago the kiss happened, and he asks if time is a factor when you crash and burn. She suggests he call Portia. She put herself on the line for him; he should do the same for her.

Cyrus says Trina is a lot like her father, and Portia tells him, stay still. He grits his teeth as she takes the bullet out. She asks Trina for more gauze. She has to clean the wound before she stitches him up. She asks him to wiggle his fingers, and he does. He says, the war between her family and his goes back a long time. There’s one silver lining; he’ll have the chance to kill Taggert again. He passes out, and Portia and Trina look each other.

Maxie is brought into the hospital in a wheelchair. Elizabeth asks, what happened? and the paramedics say, blah-blah-blah, a whole bunch of medical stuff. Maxie says she’s okay, and tells Elizabeth to help Austin; he saved her life. Elizabeth asks what’s going on with Austin, and a paramedic says, head trauma, possible concussion, and more medical stuff. Elizabeth asks if Austin can hear her. They’re going to take good care of him. She tells the paramedic to get him to radiology, and he’s wheeled out. A nurse tells Maxie that Dr. Navarro will be there soon; someone will take her to a cubicle. Peter comes in and sees Maxie. She glares at him.

Anna tells Finn about Peter cleaning out his safe, and selling The Invader. If anything happens to chase, there will be no corner in hell where he can hide.

Peter asks what Maxie is doing at the hospital. She’s supposed to be at the spa with Chloe. Is it the baby? Talk to him. What happened with the baby? Maxie says, she’s gone. The baby is gone.

Brook drives with Louise, and tells the baby, the first thing she needs to know is life is complicated. She’s sorry about Louise’s uncomfortable start, but thinks it will make her an amazing, think outside the box person. She promises to take good care of Louise, and keep her safe and happy, and make sure her psycho father gets nowhere near her. Don’t worry. Everything is under control. Louise cries, and Brook says she doesn’t believe herself either.

Jordan says, if Gladys didn’t see Jason dispose of the gun, how did she know where to tell the police to look? Gladys says, because she did see someone throw the gun down the garbage shoot; the real killer. Jordan asks if she recognized them, and Gladys says, yes. It was Peter August.

Laura says she’s got to get going, and Curtis thanks her for stopping by and bringing the certificate – and advice. She says, any time. Has he decided what to do about it? He doesn’t say anything, and she says she’ll leave him to it.

Portia motions for Trina to get her phone, and Trina says Portia has a call coming in. Portia says, Curtis? as Cyrus opens his eyes. Curtis says he apologizes for what happened, but Portia says, just listen to her… The call is cut off, and Curtis wonders what happened.

Tomorrow, Anna says if Peter vanishes, the antidote will go with him; Chase says he wants his badge; Curtis tells Laura that he thinks Portia is in trouble; and Cyrus tells Portia, it’s time to say farewell to Port Charles.

The Haves and The Have Nots

At the end of last season, Justin had shown up with a gun at the restaurant where Jeffrey and Madison were having dinner. He sat at the table, and asked if they smelled anything. Then suddenly burst into flames.

Everyone is screaming, and Madison pushes Jeffrey away. He yells for someone to put Justin out, and asks if Jeffrey is okay. He calls for an ambulance, telling them there’s someone who’s badly burned. Jeffrey moves toward Justin, but Madison says, don’t touch him. Jeffrey asks why the hell Justin would do that, and asks if Madison can help Justin. Madison turns Justin over, and Jeffrey asks if Justin is alive, but Madison doesn’t know. It’s too hot; he needs gloves. He asks if they have something in the kitchen, and one of the staff gives him rubber gloves. Seriously? They don’t have oven mitts? I don’t think rubber is a good choice to deal with something that’s been on fire. Just a thought. Madison checks for a pulse, and tells Jeffrey that he needs to get an ETA on the ambulance. Jeffrey asks if Justin is going to make it, and Madison says he doesn’t know. Jeffrey asks if Justin has a heartbeat, but Madison says he can’t get one. Jeffrey doesn’t understand why Justin would do that. Again, seriously? Isn’t he a psychologist? Madison tries to do chest compression, and says he needs Jeffrey to go, but Jeffrey says he’s staying there.

The EMTs arrive, and Madison continues to do compression, but a paramedic tells him to stop. Jeffrey asks if Justin is dead, and she says she’s sorry. Jeffrey says, dammit, and Madison says he’s sorry. Jeffrey says Madison tried. He can’t believe Justin did that, and Madison tells Jeffrey not to do this. Jeffrey says, what? and Madison says, Jeffrey is blaming himself. Jeffrey says Justin had so many issues. Maybe he could have… Madison says there was nothing Jeffrey could have done, and Jeffrey says he could have stayed away. Then his mother would have had no reason… Madison says Justin was already unstable. How would Jeffrey know his mother would do that? Jeffrey says, because she ruins everyone he gets involved with. Madison tells Jeffrey to look at him. There was nothing he could do, okay? Jeffrey says he knows, but he feels bad for Madison. Madison asks, why? and Jeffrey says he can’t see Madison anymore. His mother will destroy him. Madison says, stop this, and Jeffrey asks what choice he has. Madison says he can fight. He knows Jeffrey likes him. Jeffrey says he does, and she’ll come after him. Madison says he doesn’t care. Don’t worry. Jeffrey tells him, he says that now, but look at what she did to Justin. Madison says they need to find out what this is. Please don’t worry about him. Jeffrey says he needs to call Justin’s mother, and Madison says he can call from the house. The coroner hasn’t come, and there’s nothing they can do. They leave.

At Madison’s apartment, Jeffrey says Justin’s mother isn’t answering the phone. Madison asks if Jeffrey knows her, and Jeffrey says, no, but he has her number. He tries again, and says, damn. He should go home. Madison doesn’t think Jeffrey should be alone right now, but Jeffrey says his dad is there. He wonders why Justin’s mother isn’t answering, and Madison tells him, relax. He knows this is a lot. Jeffrey says Justin’s mother didn’t even visit when Justin was in the hospital. He wonders why people hate gay people so much; they’re just people. Madison says, the world is changing every day, but Jeffrey says, there are still too many hate crimes. He wants to go home, and Madison asks, why? Jeffrey says she’s going to come after Madison, and Madison says, stop it. Jeffrey says he needs to be alone, but Madison doesn’t like it. Colby walks in on the phone, saying, it will be so much fun. They know his rates. Text him the address, and he’ll be there. He sees Madison and Jeffrey, and wonders what he just walked in on. Madison says, nothing, and hugs Jeffrey, who cries silently. Colby asks, what is that smell? and Madison says, stop. Jeffrey walks into the other room, and Colby says, it smells like nasty barbecue. He wanted to tell Madison about his day. He was with a john who tried to stiff him, so he went all Marine on him. Madison says, he killed himself, and Colby asks, who? Madison says, Justin. He set himself on fire. Colby asks, what happened? and Madison says, they were at the table, and Justin came up with a gun, but not to shoot them. Then, he set himself on fire. He tried to grab Jeffrey, but Jeffrey is fine. Colby says, Justin done lost his mind, and asks if Madison is okay. He has a date, but he can cancel. Madison says he’s fine, and Colby says Jeffrey is lucky he has Madison. Madison says Jeffrey keeps pushing him away. Jeffrey is scared that his mother is going to come after him. Colby says, what for? and Madison says, for dating him. Colby says, oh. He does know the witch. Madison says, Jeffrey is so sweet, and Colby agrees. God bless his heart. Colby suggests Madison to try talking to Jeffrey, but Madison says Jeffrey won’t let him in. Colby says, that’s never stopped Madison before, and Madison tells him to go on his date. Colby says, too much? and Madison says Colby is always too much. Colby says, love you, bitch, and Madison says, love you too, bitch. Be careful. Colby says, when is he not? and Madison says, oh God, just go. On his way out the door, Colby says, bye, Jeffrey. Sorry the bitch burned herself… extra crispy. Madison says, Colby! and Colby jets.

Jeffrey is sitting on the couch, when Madison comes in with coffee and a takeout bag. He asks how Jeffrey slept, and Jeffrey asks if he needs to ask. Madison says, he gets it, and Jeffrey thanks him. Madison says, for…? and Jeffrey says, understanding. He needs to go home. Madison tells him to stop acting like he’s a burden. The more Jeffrey pushes him away… Jeffrey says he hears Madison, and Madison says, he’ll take Jeffrey home; no problem. Jeffrey says he needs to get to his dad, and Madison suggests he take the time to eat first.

David comes down the stairs, and Pearl and the guard stand in the foyer. Pearl says she’s meeting Jeffrey Harrington there. He called, and said he had something important to tell her that he couldn’t say on the phone. David asks who she is, and she says, Pearl Lewis, Justin’s mother. David says he sees. He’ll call and see where Jeffrey is. He calls Jeffrey, and tells him that Pearl is there. Where is he? Jeffrey says he’s a few minutes away, and David tells Pearl that Jeffrey is just around the corner. He asks if she’d like to sit, but she says she’d like to know what’s going on. Who is Jeffrey to him? David says Jeffrey is his son, and she asks if he knows what Jeffrey did to her son. He says he begs her pardon, and she says, he did something terrible. The only reason she’s there is to give him a piece of her mind. Jeffrey lured her son into unnatural ways. Her son was happily married to his wife when he met Jeffrey. Then Jeffrey did the devilish things they do to God fearing people. David says, so it’s this kind of conversation. Is she aware that her son was sexually harassing his son? When they met, Justin had arrested Jeffrey, and fondled him in the back of his police car. Pearl says, that’s not true, and he tells her, believe what she wants; it’s the truth. She says she won’t have her son spoken about like that, and he says she can leave. She says she will, and wonders, what kind of family is this? She’s going to leave before she’s involved in a drive-by. Jeffrey and Madison walk in, and Pearl tells Jeffrey, they’re both delusional. She can’t wait to talk to her son. Jeffrey thinks that because marriage between two men is legal, she’ll say yes when he asks for her son’s hand in marriage. Justin told her about how Jeffrey stalked him, and did what he did. Jeffrey says he was calling her… but she says she doesn’t want to hear it. Madison says, he’s dead, and Pearl asks what he’s talking about. Madison says he’s sorry. He’s dead. Pearl says, that’s not true, and calls Justin’s number. She gets voicemail, and says, call your mother. Madison says, they took him to the St. Claude morgue. She can find him there. She runs out, and Jeffrey tells David, it’s true. David asks, what happened? and Jeffrey says, Justin committed suicide. He came to the restaurant and set himself on fire. David says, he was crazy, and Jeffrey says, he was in pain; he was going through a struggle. And there was what mom did to him. David tells Jeffrey that he can’t say he feels sorry, and Jeffrey thanks Madison for letting him stay over. He’ll see Madison later. He goes upstairs, and David tells Madison to go up. Madison says he thinks Jeffrey wants time alone, but David says he knows his son. He needs to talk. Madison says, Jeffrey will just tell him to leave, but David says, he won’t, but don’t talk too much. Madison talks too much. Just listen. Madison says, okay, and David tells him, lock the door… just in case. Madison says, that won’t be happening, and David says, don’t let him hear anything if it does. I laugh, remembering when David walked in on them, and the look on his face.

Mitch pulls up to the Cryer’s house, when Hanna is coming out. She asks what he’s doing there, and he says he has business with Mr. Cryer. She says, about? and he says, it’s personal stuff. She says, about his family? but he says he doesn’t know what she means. If his family’s been there, he needs to know that. She says, what if something happens to her kids because he told them that his family would protect them, but they didn’t? He’d better not be there when she comes back. She doesn’t want to talk to him no more. She leaves, and he goes to the door, shaking his head and saying, son of a bitch. He knocks, and Jim comes out, his arm in a sling. Mitch asks how Jim is doing, and Jim says, not great today. And Mitch? Mitch says, he’s okay, and Jim says, good to hear. What does he want? Mitch says he wants to talk, and asks if they can go inside, but Jim says, no. Out there is fine. What’s on Mitch’s mind? Mitch asks if Jim talked to his family? Is Jim playing games with him? Jim says, no, and Mitch asks again if Jim’s been talking to his family. Jim asks if that’s a question or an accusation. Is Mitch telling or asking him something? He can’t tell. Mitch says, semantics, but Jim says, not really. There’s a difference, and he’d like to know which one it is. Mitch asks if Jim has been down to the bar, and did he talk to Vinnie? Jim says, maybe he has; maybe he hasn’t. Mitch says, it’s not a good idea. His family doesn’t like being questioned. Jim says, as far as he knows, they don’t like being lied to, and Mitch asks if this is how they’re going to do this; playing chicken with an 18 wheeler. Jim says, from where he’s standing, He’s not sure who’s who in this scenario. Mitch says Jim thinks this is a joke, but Jim says he’s not laughing. He’s serious. Eight million dollars serious. He doesn’t joke about eight million dollars. Mitch asks how Jim’s son is, and Jim says, alive. Mitch says, this time, and Jim asks if that was a threat. Mitch asks how Jim’s arm is, and tells him not to talk to his family again. Jim asks if that’s it. He thinks Mitch is sweating. Anything in his life making him nervous? Mitch says, not that he knows of. Jim? Jim says, not a damn thing, and Mitch repeats, don’t talk to his family again. Jim tells Mitch, he didn’t say he did or he didn’t. If he had, he has the feeling they would have told Mitch. They also don’t like people who steal money, especially family members. Mitch says Jim thinks he’s in the circle with that information. That’s cute. Jim asks if they’re done, and Mitch says, he’s got nothing else. He’d shake Jim’s hand, but it’s already broken. Jim says Mitch is funny. Take care, and say hi to his Uncle Vinnie. Mitch says, will do, and leaves. Jim says, pr*ck, and sits on the porch as Mitch drives away. He calls David.

David asks Jim, what’s going on? and Jim says, Mitch came to see him. David says, Malone? What did he want? Jim says he thinks Mitch is running scared. He thinks Mitch was bluffing him. David says, if Jim is telling him that Mitch lied, he might not want to press the issue. Jim says he knows that, and David says Jim knows how the Malones are about family. Jim asks how he finds out, and David says, give it time. Jim says he doesn’t have time. That bitch has his money, and the other bitch has control over the other money. He hates feeling helpless. David says, give it time; let it play out. Jim asks what David has in mind, and David says he’s a patient player. Jim says, he’s a player who needs results. He has to do something. David tells him, try and get some rest; he needs to heal. Jim says he can’t sleep there, and David says Jim can stay with him if he needs to. Jim says, thanks, but no, and David says, Jim’s house created bad memories. Hang in there. He’s confident things will end up in their favor. Jim says David is up to something, and David says, always.

Conley is waiting for Charles in the living room. Charles is surprised Conley is still there, and Conley says he hopes Charles doesn’t mind. He looks frazzled. Another top security briefing? Charles says, yeah, and Conley says, scary stuff, huh? but Charles says, it’s interesting. Conley says, that’s the most important answer to lead the American people. They need to talk. He noticed Charles met with the EPA director. Is Charles thinking of keeping him on? Charles says, no, and Conley says, good. Who is Charles thinking of replacing him with? Charles says he’s not sure, and Conley says, Devoir? Charles says, no, and Conley asks, why not? Charles says, it’s been a long day, and he didn’t expect to see Conley. Conley says he’s sorry. He’ll talk to Charles later. Get some rest. Conley leaves, and Landon comes in. He asks if Charles is okay, and Charles says he’s fine. Landon says Conley has been there a lot, and Charles says Conley knows him well. Landon asks if Charles knows Conley well, and Charles asks if Landon has something to say. Landon says, he’s just… and Charles tells him, say it. Landon says Conley has suggested a lot of cabinet members. He feels like Conley has an agenda. Charles says, Conley is a politician; remember that first. He thanks Landon for his concern, and Landon says Conley is always asking about Candace. Charles says, Conley wants what’s best for him, and Landon asks if Conley thinks she’s it. Charles says Conley knows how he feels. If Landon has something to say, just say it. Landon says he doesn’t trust Conley. He thinks Conley is trying to gain information to use as leverage. Charles says, based on what? and Landon says, his gut. Charles says, when his gut becomes intel, let him know. Landon says he’s going upstairs for another conference call. January will be there before they know it.

A nurse comes in to see Wyatt, and he tells her that she’s a beautiful woman. She asks what he wants, and he says, her. She says, what does he really want? and he says he needs to go to the bathroom. She says he has a bottle and bedpan, but he says, the bathroom is right there. She says, he is a prisoner, and he says he’ll let her watch. She says, sorry. She hates to miss that one. He says she can leave him cuffed, but she says she doesn’t trust him. He tells her, look at his face; she can trust him. She says, if he doesn’t need anything… She gives him his weewee jar, and he grabs her arm. He says he’s got to go to the bathroom, and she tells him, let go. He asks when was the last time a man touched her this way, and she asks when the last time someone punched him in the nuts. He lets go, and says, she likes it rough, but she says she likes it away from him. He says he needs pain pills; his wrists hurt. She says he’s fine. He barely cut himself. He says he wanted to die, and she says, he should have cut deeper. He says, one pill, but she says, it’s not going to happen. He says, get out, bitch, and she says that’s the exact behavior she was waiting for. She starts to go, and he says, come back. She says, bye, and leaves. He looks in the bottle, and yells, come empty this. Hey, bitch!

Hanna gets a collect call from Kathryn, and asks how she is. Kathryn says she’s okay; how’s Hanna? Hanna says, she’s well. She met with Kathryn’s people. Kathryn asks, what happened? and Hanna says, they had a lot of questions about stocks and selling options. Kathryn says, don’t worry. They’re supposed to be helping Hanna. Hanna says she’s been doing research, and trying to understand it, but Kathryn says, all she has to do is bring the information to her. Don’t try to figure it out; it can be complicated. Hanna says she still wants to keep trying, and Kathryn says, okay. Hanna asks if she needs anything, and Kathryn says, to get the hell out of here. Hanna says she can understand that, and Kathryn asks if Hanna can see how Wyatt is doing for her. Hanna says, sure, and Kathryn says she knows he’ll paint her as a snake. Hanna says, what else is new? and Kathryn says she needs another favor. Jim asked about a loft she has, but someone is staying there. She’d like Hanna to stop at the loft, let him know that she’s fine, and she’ll be out soon. If he needs anything, he should ask Hanna. Hanna asks who it is, and Kathryn says, someone special. Ask him to come and see her. She can’t get through to his cell from there. Hanna says she’ll do that, then come back and finish up. Kathryn asks if Hanna has talked to Marty, but Hanna says, not since their meeting. Kathryn says, tell him to get his ass down there, so she knows what’s going on with her bail. She appreciates Hanna so much, and Hanna says, as much as she appreciates Kathryn. She wants to go see Jim before she sees Kathryn’s mystery man. Kathryn laughs and thanks her, saying, the key to the loft is on her keyring. Hanna tells her to keep her head up.

Hanna starts to go to the kitchen, when Veronica walks in. She says, Hanna still works there? and Hanna asks what Veronica is doing there. Veronica says she wants to see Jim, but Hanna says, he’s not there. Veronica asks where he is, and Hanna shrugs, saying, Veronica will have to ask him. Veronica suggests Hanna drop the attitude, and Hanna says she will when Veronica is gone. Veronica says she’ll wait, but Hanna says, no she won’t. She’s leaving, and needs to lock up the house. Veronica says she’ll wait, and tells Hanna to go find something to do. She’s never liked this house. It used to be a plantation house. Hanna says Veronica needs to go, and Veronica says, the things they did to people of Hanna’s kind. Hanna says, Veronica is just as Black as she is, but Veronica says she’s smarter. Hanna tells her to get her ass out of there, and Veronica says Hanna just proved her point. Hanna says, again, she’s leaving, and Veronica needs to do the same. Veronica heads for the stairs.

Hanna asks where Veronica is going, and Veronica says what she has to do is important. All Hanna has to do is get cleaning products. She sees Hanna is wearing her hair natural; it fits with the plantation. She starts to go up the stairs, and tells Hanna to go do some maiding. Hanna says Veronica is not going up there, and Veronica says, watch me. Hanna says Veronica’s not going, but Veronica says, it looks like she is. Hanna asks if Veronica thinks she won’t drag her ass down, and Veronica wishes she would. Then she could sue Hanna. All she’d get would be a mop and a bucket though. Hanna says, apparently, Veronica already has a broom. Bring her ass down there. Veronica says, she hears Miss Hanna and she’s so skerd (like Madea would say it – ha-ha!). She asks if that isn’t how Hanna says it. Hanna follows Veronica upstairs, and Veronica heads for Kathryn’s bedroom. She starts to go through the dresser  drawers, saying, tacky pink. Hanna asks what the hell Veronica thinks she’s doing, and Veronica says she’s looking for something. Hanna says, get her hands off that damn woman’s dresser, and Veronica says Hanna sure is protective. It ain’t her sh*t. Hanna says she’ll call the police, and Veronica tells her, go maid something. Hanna calls the police, saying, there’s a trespasser. Veronica says Hanna is so dramatic, and keeps looking through the drawers. She asks if Hanna just called the po-po on a Black woman. That’s just the way help should act. Hannah says she’ll drag Veronica’s ass out of there, and Veronica says she’d like to see that. Hanna calls again, and says, they have someone in the neighborhood? Great. She thanks them, and snatches some underwear out of Veronica’s hand. Veronica tells her to move, and Hanna says, move her. Veronica tries putting her hand into a drawer, and Hanna slams it shut on her. The hair/wig pulling starts.

I would swear I see goodbye in all their eyes, but I might just be projecting.

Next time, Veronica tells Jim that she’s always two steps ahead of him, Jim wonders what the hell is wrong with these women, David tells Jim that Veronica could get evidence that will bury them, and Candace says Charles isn’t going to control her.

The Real Housewives of New York City

When we left Leah was interrogating Heather about her podcast. In Ramona’s interview, she said, the best way to handle Leah is to change the subject. She’s the host, so she sets the tone. She and Leah then got lovey-dovey, and Eboni marveled at how the women can be going to the death, then five minutes later, kiss and make up. Ramona said talking about sex made her uncomfortable, and Leah said she was sex positive. LuAnn decided it was time for her to go to bed, and in her interview, told us that nothing good happens after a certain hour for her, especially with the drinking. Sometimes it was better to call it a night, and not hang around too long. Ramona said she was never taught to talk about sex, and listed all the subjects Leah liked to bring up. Leah said Ramona sounded pretty comfortable just then, and Ramona asked her to edit herself a little. In Leah’s interview, she said if Ramona was honest about being on the prowl all the time, they’d find out she was getting laid more than the rest of them combined. Eboni called Ramona out for saying she could take a big d*ck, but Ramona insisted she never said that, and left the room. Eboni followed her, and in Ramona’s interview, she said, now she was getting it from Eboni? She was dumbfounded. Ramona took a bottle of wine, and went upstairs, wondering, what happened to class and elegance?

In the morning, Ramona and Sonja dished about the night before. Ramona said she thought the party went well, and Sonja asked, what about the penises? Eboni and Leah walked around outside, and Leah said she wanted to respect Ramona’s comfort zone, but thought it was hypocritical. We saw photos of Ramona and Leah, scantily clad and posing in a sexual way. In Leah’s interview, she said she really wanted to tell Ramona that she was proud of her for taking a big d*ck. Leah told Eboni that Ramona said, just stop talking about sex, but twenty minutes in, Ramona was in a thong, and dancing around like a stripper. Ramona told Sonja that she couldn’t believe Leah started trouble with Heather about her podcast. She wonders if Heather will stop talking about them, but Sonja thinks Heather wants the scoop. In her interview, Leah said her mom told her that her grandmother was no longer communicating; she was slipping away. She was realizing in real time that she wasn’t getting another conversation with her grandmother.

Ramona asked Heather if she was having a nice time, and Heather said, it was really nice, aside from being attacked. She thought she’d proved her point; it’s just the way she looks at it. Ramona thought it would behoove Heather not to talk about them, but Heather said the way she talked about her experience was her business. Ramona said she didn’t want to be in the press, and didn’t want Heather talking about her, even if it was nice. In Heather’s interview, she said she thought that was more hot air and ridiculousness. She wanted to move on and have fun, which was what she was there for.

LuAnn went home to prepare for the women coming over to do nude sketching. Garth and LuAnn’s niece Nicole, who’d procured the model, were waiting for her; Garth busy slaving over a hot stove. In LuAnn’s interview, she said, lamb curry prepared by Garth, and a male nude model. What was better than food and nude? She thought it was going to be hysterical. At Ramona’s, Eboni and Leah were getting their hair and make-up done, and Ramona thought it was ridiculous that they couldn’t do it themselves. In Leah’s interview, she said she wanted to look cute, even if she wasn’t feeling cute. Ramona said their lateness was rude, and Eboni said, as a Black woman, she had a different hair situation than Ramona. Ramona suggested getting started earlier, and Eboni said they’d had technical issues. In Eboni’s interview, she said, 1865, the Emancipation Proclamation. She’s free. Don’t tell her what to do with her time.

Nude model Kurt arrived, and LuAnn explained he was a friend of her niece’s, and a professional poser. In LuAnn’s interview, she said he had to be mentally prepared up here – as she pointed to her head – so they didn’t have to worry about what was going on down there. I couldn’t really imagine it as a sexy situation, but who knows? Different strokes and all that. LuAnn had the usual amazing spread of appetizers, and in her interview, she said that Sonja was jealous of the other people in her orbit, especially Garth. She hoped the curry would win Sonja over. LuAnn told Heather that Garth was a good soul. He didn’t play games, and she could count on him. In her interview, LuAnn said Garth was there when she needed him. He didn’t drink, and that was good for her to be around. Garth got out while the getting was good, and in Ramona’s interview, she said Eboni seemed to get her. She wondered why Leah couldn’t. LuAnn’s friend Alfredo also showed up with his guitar. Leah told Sonja that LuAnn had thought Sonja would like him, but Sonja said LuAnn didn’t know what she liked. She liked bankers. In her interview, LuAnn said that Sonja could flirt, and get off her ass about Garth. In Ramona’s interview, she said Sonja liked LuAnn’s type of guy.

Nicole said Kurt would be doing one-minute poses. Kurt came out with a fringed towel around his waist, and said he was very talented, but couldn’t take it off by himself. Sonja volunteered, and at the count of 3-2-1, she ran away with the towel. Kurt said she must have done that before. In Eboni’s interview, she said she could see why this was his job. There was a lot of giggling, and Leah said he had a nice in betweenie weenie. Ramona left to sit on the porch, saying, she could only paint so many penises. Leah said she was running out of steam, and joined her. LuAnn gave the last pose call, and in Sonja’s interview, she said the other girls were nailing it, but she was trying to keep her eye off the pickle. LuAnn introduced Alfredo, saying, he played guitar. Alfredo walked around while playing, and Ramona said his music was touching her. In her interview, Leah said she didn’t think he was Sonja’s type, but he had a d*ck, so maybe Ramona could help herself. In Sonja’s interview, she said she’d never been so hands off with a naked man in front of her. She just gripped the pencil tighter. Kurt looked at their work, and he seemed like a lovely person, as well as a good sport. Leah told Ramona that she was stressing, and in her interview, she said, physically, she felt terrible. The mind, body, and spirit were all connected, and she was having a hard time. She told Eboni that she couldn’t enjoy herself, and Ramona said Leah’s grandmother was the only one who loved her unconditionally. Her grandmother gets her more than her mom and Rob. Leah started crying, and Ramona said she was just trying to relate, and she was making it worse. In Eboni’s interview, she said she knew Ramona meant well, but stop it. In Leah’s interview, she said she thought silence was the best thing. Eboni told Leah not to feel she had to carry this sh*t. She needed to take care of herself. Leah said she was going to miss her grandmother so much, and Eboni said Leah was scared that when her grandmother was gone, there would be nobody to tell her that she’s good enough. Eboni hugged her, and Leah cried some more. Eboni said when Leah’s grandmother passed, she wouldn’t be losing her. Her grandmother would also be there for her.

Victoria takes pictures of Kurt for her classic realism class. Eboni told Leah that her friends would step in to tell her that she’s good enough. Everyone sat down to eat Garth’s lamb curry, and Sonja said she’d been giving Leah space. Leah said she appreciated it, and LuAnn thanked her daughter Victoria, who had shown up to help, and Garth for making the food. In Sonja’s interview, she said she didn’t know how long LuAnn and Garth’s relationship would last, but she could see what LuAnn was raving about. It’s the curry.

LuAnn said she’d seen Ramona run out last night, with Eboni chasing her, and Eboni said she was apologizing for using language Ramona doesn’t like. LuAnn said she was brought up conservatively, the same as Ramona, and in Leah’s interview, she said, Ramona and Christian values shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. Thou shalt not lie. LuAnn thought there had to be a cut-off point, or it got to be a bit much. Leah it was hard for her to know about the hypocrisy. Ramona was dancing around in a thong, and flashing her boobs. Make up her mind. We saw a clip of Ramona doing just that. Leah walked away from the table, and Sonja said Leah had just been crying; leave her alone. Ramona talked about Leah going to dinner with Ramona, her daughter, and her daughter’s friends, and they wondered, who speaks like that? We saw a clip of the dinner, and Leah talking about big d*cks and such. Eboni said that she wouldn’t use words Ramona didn’t like, but she shouldn’t subscribe to the fact that someone using those words wasn’t classy. Ramona claimed she’d never said that, and LuAnn said it had to do with education. Eboni said she was the most educated one in the group, and LuAnn asked if a degree made her educated. Leah came back, and told Ramona not to bring up her daughter again. In Sonja’s interview, she said, of course Leah was acting out to get a rise out of Ramona. Here came the high point where Leah pointed at each one, and said, you’re a ho, and you’re a ho. And I sang, everywhere a ho-ho. Leah ended with saying they were the biggest ho’s ever, and left. Like left in a car. Ramona said Leah was always defensive and aggressive, and Sonja said Leah should be herself. Ramona shouldn’t bring her around people she didn’t want her around. Heather said what should be a lesson in listening to each other wasn’t happening, and LuAnn mumbled about being an uneducated person. Eboni told her, no one said that LuAnn was uneducated. She said she was the most educated, which was a fact. In LuAnn’s interview, she said, to her, being educated was being well-traveled and speaking many languages. I think there might be more to it than that, but okay. She said Eboni was making them feel like idiots, and Eboni said LuAnn considered people who didn’t adhere to LuAnn’s social norms to be uneducated. LuAnn said she’d been originally talk about Catholicism, and Eboni jumped on her. Miss Educated was the smarted in the room. Eboni told her, no one said that, and in her interview, she said she’d been practicing law since she was 23. People could say a lot of sh*t about her, but she has an education. In Heather’s interview, she said this wasn’t about Leah; it was all about egos. LuAnn said Eboni wasn’t going to call her uneducated in her own house, and Eboni said she could leave LuAnn’s house. Ramona said Eboni was too loud, and Eboni said Ramona’s white fragility was killing her. Ramona said they’d been talking about words she didn’t like to hear, and LuAnn wondered why Eboni was so angry. Eboni said, so now she was an angry Black woman. She didn’t like LuAnn equating education to what people say. At this point, Ramona said she needed some tequila. LuAnn said Eboni was just an angry woman. In her interview, Eboni said, Leah stormed off, and they didn’t see her ass no more, but no one called her angry. She had a visceral response to something deeply personal and painful, and she was called angry. Don’t tell her it’s not about race. In Sonja’s interview, she said Eboni didn’t seem angry. She seemed to use her words.

Inside the house, Ramona asked if Victoria used words like that, and Victoria said she did not. Eboni said if LuAnn didn’t want her there, she would leave out of respect. The Countess said she thought Eboni should go. She should calm down and thinks about what she’d said. I can’t make the call as to it being a race issue, but I’d be pretty pissed at being talked to like I’m five. Eboni said LuAnn wasn’t policing her feelings. She shamed a woman for being sexually free, and her for using her education. Eboni walked out, and it said, to be continued…

Next time, Eboni tells Leah that she was called an angry Black woman; LuAnn apologizes, but wants one in return; a fishing trip; and Leah calls Heather a Karen. The moment we’ve been waiting for

👩🏾‍🏫 For Your Viewing Education…

I saw the first part of this tonight, and it was excellent.

🎬 That’s a Wrap…

It’s late/early, and I’m spent. Until we meet at the corner of Port Charles and Beverly Hills, stay safe, stay as well-adjusted as possible, and stay not policing other people’s feelings.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Today’s episode was a repeat from November 4, 2020. If this was Friends, it would be the one where Sonny paid a visit to Ryan, and Alex kidnapped Anna.

🎒 Consolation Prize…

What we know about Austin… so far. Okay, it’s not much.

🏆 Quel Scandale…

It only took them around 45 years.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

We left the guests starving on the beach, as Natasha was rushing to get the food to the tender.

It’s five minutes past the time lunch should have been served, and Glenn urges Natasha to get going. The guests whine that they’re starving, and the struggle is real. The only struggle here is me having to listen to their whining. In Glenn’s interview, he says he’s frustrated with the crew. They have a charter and a half to go, and the crew seems to be falling apart. Daisy tells Alli that she’s been stuck picking up the pieces when something goes wrong. Natasha was asking her questions at five to three, when lunch was at three. The food arrives at the beach, and co-primary Jess says she’s ready to double fist it. They shove down some food, and co-primary Erica says the chef outdid herself. Guest Cindi suggests they talk about what each of them admires in the others, and in Dani’s interview, she says, it’s so awkward. It’s wrong and weird, and makes her feel sad. Jess tells Erica that she creates a presence when she walks into the room. I’m thinking a few things about that one, but I’ll let it go.

Daisy tells Alli to refresh the cabins, starting with the master. Sydney radios Gary that the guests are ready to go, and then they’ll start breaking everything down. Natasha cleans up from lunch, and Erica whines about walking on the rocks to the tender. Glenn asks if Daisy will greet the guests, as they stumble back onto the yacht half-drunk. Erica wants to talk to Daisy about the women’s empowerment dinner tonight, and Jess tells Daisy to seat them in the middle with their nemesis Bianca on the end. Glenn decides to do some sailing for an hour, and Jess does the splits on deck. On the beach, Gary picks up the crew and the supplies. JL lifts Natasha onto the tender, and Natasha asks Dani if that’s what it feels like. Colin makes noises at the goats on shore.

En route to Milna. Glenn puts up the sails up, and Natasha squeals as pots and pans go flying. Jess says she’s glued to the wall. Too bad she won’t stay there. In Natasha’s interview, she says she’s sick of cooking while sailing, and we flash back to the various times things have flown around the galley. She says, she’s just like, no. Bianca bitches about the others goofing around while she’s trying to work. She visits Glenn, who’s steering, and Cindi joins her. Cindi wonders who in their party is screaming downstairs. Jess picks this comment up with her bat radar ears, and says she thinks they’re just having fun. Daisy wonders why the crew dinner hasn’t been started yet, and Natasha says she can’t prepare it when they’re keeled over. Bianca complains to Sydney and Dani that Cindi asked why the other guests were yelling, and she wondered why Cindi has acted like a d-bag from the second she stepped on the boat, which startles me, since Cindi seems the most sane. Dani tells her, just have fun.

Glenn puts the sails down, and Natasha gets on with the business of making dinner. Gary groans that he didn’t have lunch, and dinner is late. In Colin’s interview, he says he doesn’t think Natasha is managing her time properly. If he has time to help and she needs it he will, since it’s a priority. Gary asks Alli if she’s taking a break, but she says she already had a break. In Sydney’s interview, she says there seems to be tension between Gary and Alli, and she laughs. Daisy writes out quotes from women to put at each place setting. In Dani’s interview, she says, women tend to put other women down, and she absolutely hates it. Ditto. Glenn calls Colin to anchor, and Natasha wonders WTF she’s going to do. They arrive at Milna, and Dani says, there’s a pink sky for the empowerment ladies. Daisy and Dani set the table, and Daisy says the quotes actually made her feel kind of warm inside. Ew.

Glenn asks Natasha what her plan is, and in Natasha’s interview, she says, she’s so f***ed. Gary says Glenn must be hungry, and Natasha says there’s no way she can cook when they’re tilting like that. In Glenn’s interview, he says, the galley is falling apart. There’s a hungry crew and hungry guests. It’s a nightmare. Erica discusses something about the table with another guest, and Bianca wanders over. Erica says Bianca doesn’t need to be there right now, and in Daisy’s interview, she wonders how they can talk about empowerment, and yet drive each other down. It’s hard to watch. Dinner is 100 minutes late for the crew, and 50 minutes late for the guests. Glenn wolfs down some pasta, and the guests are seated. A guest says, it’s women stuff on the cards, and Erica toasts to strong women. May we be them, know them, and raise them. Bianca says, it’s the first time she’s had bread in a year, and Erica says she should celebrate.

Daisy gripes to Alli about Natasha running late. She couldn’t cook pasta? I dunno. If the boat is at a 45 degree angle, how does the water stay in the pot? How does the pot even stay on the stove? In Daisy’s interview, she says she’s tried everything, but nothing is working. She’s worried they’re going to get a sh*t tip. Alli says, the guests are toasting to each other, and Erica says she loves that they’re celebrating each of them. Sydney asks if Colin wants to practice their song, and Erica tells Bianca, if she doesn’t want to attend the performance, fine. She tells Jess that she’s feeling negative energy, but fails to add that it’s coming from her. Dessert is served, and Sydney and Colin come out. Sydney tells the guests that she and Colin wrote a song that’s a little toast to them. The crew watches as well, and they guests cheer when it’s finished. In Daisy’s interview, she says, the charter was an effing sh*t show, but the guests appreciate the song. Thank God something is going right. JL says, it’s going to be a hit, and Daisy thanks them. The guests make a bunch of noise about someone farting at the table, and point fingers, everyone saying, it wasn’t me. Unfortunately, there is no dog to blame. Gary tells Dani that he’ll help with the dishes even though he effing hates doing dishes. He says they need to work their way around the break-up, and he’s hoping to score brownie points. Alli tells him, it doesn’t work that way, and in Gary’s interview, he says he’s heartbroken, but more regretful.

Daisy asks for Colin’s advice-slash-opinion, and tells him there seems to be no sense of urgency on Natasha’s part. Why is she making dinner so late? Colin asks if Daisy has a problem with what he’s doing to help, but she says, no. She thinks Natasha is off. Nothing was done because they were sailing. In Colin’s interview, he says if Daisy and Natasha have a feud, it could end in serious tension, and affect the crew. They have to get this sorted. Daisy says she’s over it at this stage, and Colin says, Gary told him that Glenn had a word with Natasha. He suggests he, Gary, and Daisy get together with Natasha before the next charter, and have a pep talk. Daisy says she wants to finish on a high, and thanks Colin. Dani asks who Sydney thought would be a couple when they started the season, and Sydney says, originally, she was going to go after JL. She knew someone would. In Dani’s interview, she says she’s worried that after the season ends, JL won’t be ready to be with her, and wonders where this is going to lead. She doesn’t know what to do. Gary whines about being heartbroken.

I swear, Jess’s lips got bigger than they were last week. Daisy wonders why the guests are up so early, and Glenn asks how Natasha is. She says, okay, and he asks if everything is all right. She nods, obviously not wanting to discuss it. Gary sits in the crew mess, watching Alli. He asks her to come to his cabin, since he doesn’t want to talk in front of Natasha. He tells Alli that he understands where she’s coming from, but it’s a sh*t feeling. He wants to cuddle and kiss her. Alli says, that doesn’t change what happened, and Gary says he feels sh*tty about it. He doesn’t know what will fix it, but Alli says there’s nothing he can do. He says she’s made up her mind, and she asks if he’s angry at her, but he says he’s angry at himself. In Gary’s interview, he says they came to this point because of his actions. Now he needs to respect Alli; keep his distance, and make it as painless as possibly can. He’s over this effing charter.

The guests sit down for breakfast, and Natasha makes mass quantities of pita bread. Daisy asks, who’s getting drunk tonight? Colin says, not him, and she says, liar. While en route to Marina Alv, the guests pack. In JL’s interview, he says he feels good about having a relationship, but thinks Dani is holding back because of his age. He hopes Dani brought her hiking boots to climb this mountain. It’s time to dock, and in Glenn’s interview, he says, the last docking is in the back of his mind, and we flash back to that. He says if they crash with guests on board, the embarrassment meter will go to a whole other level.

They manage dock successfully. Erica and Jess butt bump. The crew lines up to say goodbye, and Jess says she was blown away. Erica thanks Glenn for sailing them away from the storm, and putting up with their craziness. They’re grateful. She gives him the tip envelope, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she’s done with mean girls. She’s also ready for a drink.

Glenn radios for the crew to meet in the main saloon for the tip meeting. He tells them it was the penultimate charter of the season, and they have one to go. The guests left happy, but there were a few cracks in the process. He suggests the crew have a set meal time. Natasha says it’s difficult to cook while sailing, and Glenn tells her to factor it into her work flow. Even worse, the guests overheard some of the crew speaking about them. We flash back to Colin saying they seem like a pain in the ass, and Alli saying, with Cindi talking, it will be the fastest hour of her life. Glenn says, their voices carry, so be discreet. They’re getting lax, and it’s the end of the season, but the guests were happy. The tip is $18,450 or $2040 each. Glenn says he also organized a restaurant for them to go to. He wants them to come back refreshed, and nail the finale. They have champagne.

Sydney asks Alli about Gary, and Alli says she hadn’t realized what happened, and they broke up. It’s not okay for any girl to be treated that way. In Sydney’s interview, she says she was wondering when Alli would find out. Alli says she had no other choice because of her conscience. On the way to the restaurant, the girls play F*** –Marry–Kill using past guests. They arrive at the restaurant in Split, and Gary tells Sydney that he heard from a third party that she has feelings for him. She tells him that she’d said she did, and we flash back to the half-dozen times she told him that she liked him. In Sydney’s interview, she says flirting with Gary is a little vindictive on her part. She’s noticed Alli looking, and picking up on the flirtation. Now Alli knows exactly how she felt a week ago. Then she prepares her acceptance speech for winning the Most Immature trophy. There was stiff competition, but she did it. In Colin’s interview, he says, Gary going back to Sydney is the worst idea ever. Alli is not going to take it lightly. Gary continues to be himself, and he’s a train wreck sometimes. Alli says she did her best, and guesses it’s not good enough. Dani announces that she and JL are moving to America, getting married, and having babies. Daisy leaves with Alli for a smoke, and JL joins them. At the table, Colin asks if Dani is going to break JL’s heart, but she says they’re just enjoying each other. Gary says, JL is falling in love. Daisy, Alli, and JL have a tequila shot, and Colin yells that the food is there. They’re being rude now.

They toast to the last charter. JL and Dani leave to talk, and JL tells Dani that he didn’t come there to find anything; it found him. He thinks they have something special, and he has feelings for her. In his mind, he’s ready to spend time with one person. She says the more she gets to know him, the more she likes him, but these are literally the best years of his life. She thinks he’ll regret it at some point. In his interview, JL says he gets where Dani’s heart is, but thinks it’s an excuse, and she needs to get over it. He tells her that he knows she’s ready to settle down and possibly have a family, and he thinks he’s ready, but he won’t know until he’s in it. If she wants to stay together, he’s open to it. Gary tells Colin that he’ll look like a creep, chasing a girl who doesn’t want him to. It would be d*ck of him. Like revisiting whatever with Sydney isn’t. He says Alli made him think he was an amazing person, but now she just wants to be friends. Colin tells him, if he likes Alli, don’t f*** Sydney, but Gary says he’s already decided. In Colin’s interview, he says, Gary is an effing idiot. Agreed.

Next time, Dani tells Alli that she doesn’t see how it will work with JL, another crew comes on charter, and Alli screams at Gary.
