What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly asks Sonny what the hell is wrong with him, and he says, there’s nothing wrong with him. She says, so if someone says something to him that isn’t flattery or groveling, he’s going to take that as betrayal. And now he’s putting his trust in Ava? He asks what he’s supposed to do. At least Ava didn’t pay somebody to spy on him like she paid traitor Dex. She says she’s talking about Jason. He risked his life for Sonny. He took beatings and bullets for him. He ran Sonny’s business when Sonny couldn’t and went to prison to protect their son. Sonny says, her son. He’s another one Sonny can’t count on. She says, so they’re just going to add Michael to that list, and he says, pretty much. She says, when people you love are turning against you, maybe they aren’t the problem – you are, and he says, who is he supposed to trust? Her? For all he knows she and Jason are working together.

The phone rings in the Nook, and Olivia answers. Sam says, he’s awake. Dante is awake. Elizabeth and the doctors are in there with him now. Olivia tells Lois, Danny, and Rocco that Dante is awake, and they get all excited. Rocco asks if he’s okay, and Lois says, his dad is all right. He’s coming back to him. Sam tells Olivia, he’s going to be okay.

Riding in a van, John Brennan (who Valentin calls Jack, so I guess we will too) says, as exhilarating and as it is to get out of Pentenville, he wouldn’t mind knowing where they’re going. The driver says nothing, and he says, strong, silent type, he sees. The driver stops the van and opens the passenger doors. Valentin hands him a wad of cash and gets in. Valentin says, hi, Jack. You’re looking well… for a prisoner. Jack says he was starting to think Valentin abandoned him, and Valentin says he got here as soon as he could. Jack left him a few fires to put out. Jack asks if he put them out or is he letting Pikeman burn down around him.

Jason approaches the penthouse and asks Frank if Sonny is home. Frank says he’s under strict orders not to let anyone in, but the boss would make an exception for him. Welcome back. They shake hands and Jason thanks him.

Carly says she wishes that instead of spending the last three years missing and grieving for Jason – Jason walks int behind her – she wishes she was secretly calling him and conspiring against Sonny. She sees Sonny staring behind her and turns around.

Jason says he can come back, but Carly says, no. He shouldn’t have to answer this, but for some reason, Sonny needs to hear it. Did he shoot Dante? Jason says, no. How is he? Sonny says, he hasn’t woken up. Did Jason get out on bail? Carly says, five million dollars. Michael paid it. Of course (🍷) he did. It’s Jason. Sonny asks if Jason wants to tell him where he’s been and why he hasn’t reached out. Carly says, does Ava really need to be… Sonny says, yes, she needs to be here, because Ava was at the warehouse when someone took a shot at him. Jason was on the roof. He’s not going to deny that, right? Jason admits he was on the roof that night, and Sonny says, Jason didn’t mean for him to die? Jason says he made sure Sonny didn’t, and Sonny asks if Jason can tell him why he should believe him. (Because, it’s Jason!)

Jack asks if Valentin can explain what went wrong with taking out Sonny Corinthos, and Valentin says, for starters, his oldest friend was assigned to the sniper team. Alan Jacobs? That was an alias being used by Jason Morgan. He wasn’t at the shooting, and they can’t ask the sniper because he’s dead. But he guesses Jason Morgan sabotaged the operation. Nobody at Pikeman realized they had Jason Morgan on the payroll? Jack says, at any given time, Pikeman employs upwards of 15,000 mercenaries deployed to their various clients around the world. So forgive him if he didn’t vet one personally. Valentin says, he didn’t just pass the vetting process, he worked his way up to the asset group. Jack tells him, what can he say? They only promote the best. Valentin says, how about in the future if they only employ the best more carefully? and Jack tells him to make sure they do that. How about issuing a whole new policy? What are they doing right now to fix this? Valentin says, Jason might have derailed their latest attempt to get rid of Sonny, but he’s going to be joining Jack in Pentenville very soon for shooting a cop, Dante Falconari, Sonny’s son no less. Jack says, this is like an oil slick; it keeps spreading. So not only was the op a failure, but the cop gets what? Winged? Injured? Valentin says, he’s probably going to die, and Jack says, a dead cop, even better. And the icing on the cake is their operative is now in custody. So was it really Morgan who shot Falconari? Valentin tells him, it’s impossible to say. It could have been their sniper, but like he said, he’s dead. The extraction team was able to get the body and the weapon off the pier before the first responders got there. Jack says, so the only way to prove it wasn’t Morgan is if the cop ID’s the shooter. What about Valentin? Valentin says, what about him? and Jack says, the only prayer Morgan has is if he gives up Pikeman. Could Jason know Valentin’s been running the company since his arrest?

Olivia says she can’t believe Dante’s awake, and Lois says, all those prayers they sent up did the trick. Olivia says, they certainly did. If they need her, she’ll be at the hospital. Rocco says he’s coming with her, and Danny says, him too. Olivia says, their dad is in ICU and they don’t allow a lot of visitors there, and Danny says, that’s okay they can wait outside. Rocco says, as long as they can see him, and Olivia says, their dad’s wounds are very serious. It might be kind of hard for them to see him like that. It might be hard for him too. Rocco says, dad told him there was never a wrong time to come to him, that he would be there for Rocco always, and Olivia says, of course (🍷) he said that. It’s true. Lois tells her, take them to GH. They can handle it, can’t they? Danny says, not knowing is way worse than seeing him for themselves. Plus, he’ll stay with Rocco the entire time. Olivia says, okay. Get their coats. They leave and Olivia asks if Lois is sure she’s okay staying with Scout. Lois says, of course (🍷) she’s okay. Don’t worry about it. And tell Dante that she was praying for him, and she was praying in Italian, the language of the Popes… most of the Popes. Olivia says she loves Lois, hugs her, and jets. Lois looks up and says, grazie mille.

Sam asks Dr. Park how Dante is. Can she see him? The doctor says she can. The breathing tube’s out, but Dante will still have some trouble speaking. If he wants some water, don’t give him more than a sip at a time, and if he starts coughing, use the call button. He’ll order something to coat and numb his throat. That should help. Sam thanks him, and he asks Elizabeth, what else? Elizabeth says, they took his chest tube out when his lung reinflated, so be careful. He’s going to be pretty sore. Sam goes into Dante’s room and says, welcome back, detective. Don’t you dare ever scare me like that again. Dante says, get… and Sam asks if he’s thirsty. Does he need some water? He says, get… over here, and she goes to his bedside. She asks if it hurts, and he shakes his head. She says, he lies, and he says he’s sorry. She says, don’t you dare be sorry. He has nothing to be sorry for. He says he loves her, and she kisses his forehead and tells him that she loves him too.

Valentin says, Jack knows he’s all about discretion, and Jack says he does know that. All those years he was instrumental in Pikeman’s expansion, and no one had any idea he was involved. And now he’s running the place. Valentin says he’s not. He’s fielding shareholder’s calls and dealing with supervisors through cryptic communication. There’s nothing to be traced to him. Jack says, he hopes, and Valentin says, Jack has been sloppy. Coming to Port Charles personally, getting involved with Carly… Jack says he doesn’t know if he’d call it involved. Diverted maybe. Interested certainly. It’s his bad luck her ex was the man who had to be removed. Speaking of, where is Corinthos now? Valentin says, Sonny knows enough not to show his face where they can get a clear shot at him. Valentin left some breadcrumbs, some misinformation. He thinks he’s being targeted by some mysterious man by the name of Stone. Jack asks, who’s Stone? and Valentin says, somebody who Sonny was very fond of, but he’s been dead for decades. And if Sonny thinks he’s being targeted by a dead man, it will probably take his attention off of Pikeman. There have been far too many misfires. That has to change now. Sonny Corinthos has a stranglehold on Port Charles and he’s not willing to do business with them. Jack says, no matter how much they offer him, and Valentin says, they need him gone. Jack says, so what’s the plan? He does have a plan, right? They have colleagues in the WSB eager to make sure the right supplies get into the right hands. They have very lucrative contracts to fill, and they have volatile customers to satisfy. They need a reliable shipping situation and Port Charles is ideally situated. Corinthos is in the way and it’s on Valentin to get him out of the way. Valentin says, of course (🍷) he has a plan, and Jacks says, don’t leave him in suspense. How do they take Corinthos down? Valentin says, they don’t. Sonny does it for them.

Jason says, so when the cave collapsed in Greece, he followed the tunnel outside. That’s when he got picked up by the FBI. Carly says, the FBI was in Greece? and Jason says, yeah. They had Peter August under surveillance. That’s why they were watching Cassadine Island. Sonny says, they picked him up, then what? and Jason says he’s been an informant ever since. Carly says, he was an informant for the FBI? and Sonny says, why the hell would he do that? Jason says he had no choice, and Sonny says, he was an informant for the FBI. He must be protecting someone. Who? Who is he protecting? Jason says, himself.

Olivia goes into Dante’s room and says, it’s true. He’s awake. He says, hey, mom, and she kisses his forehead and says, don’t ever do that to them again. Sam says she read him the riot act, and Olivia says, good. She loves Dante so much. He says, how could she not? and she says, he’s cracking jokes already, huh? That’s probably a good sign. Sam says she thinks so, and Olivia says she does too. She loves him so much. Sam sees the boys in the hallway and says, it looks like Olivia brought some tagalongs. Olivia says, they wouldn’t take no for an answer. She hopes it was okay. Sam asks Elizabeth if it’s okay if they come in and say a quick hi, and Elizabeth says, there are a lot of things that happen around here that she has no idea about. She lets the boys in, and Rocco says, hi, dad. Dante says, hey, pal. It’s okay. He won’t bite. Sam says, it’s a little hard for his dad to talk right now, but he could use a hug, and Rocco says, it won’t hurt him? She says, just be gentle, and Rocco goes over to the bed. He hugs Dante and says he missed him so much. Dante tells Danny, hey, you, and Danny comes over and they do a soft fist bump. Danny says, they’re all glad he’s okay, and Dante says, him too.

Rocco says, Dante has been in the paper every day since he got hurt. Today he’s on the front page because of the hearing. Sam says, maybe they can show his dad that tomorrow. He needs rest right now. Dante says, hearing? and Danny says, he means arraignment. A lot of people think his dad’s the one who shot Dante, but now that he’s awake, he can tell them it wasn’t him, right? Sam says she thinks it’s time for Dante to get some rest, and Olivia says, they heard the woman. Everybody out. Rocco says, dad doesn’t want them to go, but Olivia says, sometimes dads don’t know what’s best for them. Everybody. Just for a minute. She and the boys leave, and Sam sits next to the bed. She asks if she can get Dante anything, and he says, Anna.

Valentin says, it’s no secret that Sonny suffers from bi-polar disorder, and Jack says, he’s certainly managed to turn it to his advantage. Apparently even a crime boss can get good press for being openly afflicted. Valentin says, he’s managed his condition through medication. He’s made contact with Sonny’s source for bi-polar meds. Let’s just say we’ve come to an agreement. He’ll be filling Sonny’s prescription at one-quarter strength and three-quarters placebo. Jack says, so Corinthos will believe that he’s medicated per usual, and Valentin says, he’ll become increasingly erratic and paranoid. Removing him will become child’s play. Jack says, don’t underestimate the man. That was his mistake. He thought Sonny could be bought, just like they bought all the others, and eliminated once they were done with him. But Corinthos didn’t survive this long by being stupid. Valentin says, no. He survived by being medicated. Now he won’t be. He’s already derailed. He’s not covering his tracks. He tried to beat an old man to death with his bare hands. Jack laughs, and Valentin says, they’re not going to have to go through the trouble of killing him, not if he gets himself arrested and convicted first. (Wow. Sooo disappointed in this change in Valentin’s character.)

Sonny says, so that’s it. That’s all Jason is going to give them? That he’s an informant for the Feds? Carly says, Jason would tell them more if he could, and Sonny says, of course (🍷) Carly is defending him. She says, the question is, why isn’t Sonny? Sonny says, because he let them believe he was dead for two years, and Carly says, he had his reasons. Sonny says he doesn’t care about Jason’s reasons, and she says, since when? Why is he ignoring his history with someone who’s always been loyal to him? Sonny says, until now, and she says, Jason has his reasons. Sonny says, he’s working for the Feds. Jason was there the night someone took a shot at him. Carly says, and look at him, standing here just fine thanks to Jason, and Sonny says, they don’t know that for sure. Carly says she does. You know why? Because he just told them. Sonny throws his hands up and says, oh, and Ava rushes over, suggesting they table this discussion for a while until cooler heads prevail. Carly asks if she can please shut up, and Sonny says, don’t speak to her that way. Carly asks, what’s happened to him? and Sonny says he’s not the one who’s changed. This is his survival instincts kicking in, and it’s telling him, if Jason is working for the Feds and not going to tell him why, that means he can’t trust Jason and he can’t trust Carly. They’re both traitors to him. Carly asks if he hears himself, and Sonny says, get out of his house. Carly says, Sonny… but Sonny tells her that he’s not going to say it again. Jason tells her, they need to go, and she says, this is crazy. They leave together and Sonny does that scary death stare.

Anna arrives at Dante’s room, and Sam thanks her for coming so late. Anna says she would be happy to get this call if it came at 3 am, and Sam says, he pulled through. They hug, and Anna says, thank God. She’s so glad for Sam and the boys and her a little and the department. Without Dante… He’s just such a good friend. And he’s her MVD. Sam says, MVD? and Anna says, most valuable detective, obviously. Sam says she loves it and knows Dante is going to love it too. She tells the boys that they’ll be right back and they go into Dante’s room, where Olivia is sitting with him. Sam says, he’s got a visitor, and Anna says, good to see him. Dante says, her too, and Sam says, speaking is a little rough for him, and tells Dante not to strain himself. Olivia says she’ll give them some space, kisses Dante’s cheek, and leaves. Sam says, guess what? He has a nickname. Anna says, MVD, most valuable detective, and Sam asks if he likes it. He says, Chase won’t, but he does, and Anna says he’s relieved they didn’t lose him. He says, him too, and Anna asks if he’s all caught up. Sam says, some. He knows about the arraignment today, but she wanted everyone else out of the room before the discussion went any further, and Dante wanted Anna. Anna says she’s got to ask him. Does he know who shot him? Dante says he’s never seen them before, and Anna says, they can get him a pen and paper or something, but he says, not Jason. Sam says, Jason didn’t shoot him? and Dante says, no. Anna says, but he saw Jason though, and Dante says, he’s the reason I’m alive.

Jack says, it’s official, folks. He’s still diabolical. Valentin says, apparently that isn’t a character trait one easily grows out of. So how is Jack doing in Pentenville? Jack says, it’s a regular vacation, and Valentin says, otherwise, no problems? Jack says, other than the occasional sleepless night where he wonders if Valentin is up for this. A gift for logistics doesn’t necessarily translate to a gift for leadership. Valentin says, Jack is a natural born leader. He knows because it says so on his psyche eval. Jack laughs, and Valentin says, and look at where it’s gotten him. In a prison jumpsuit in maximum security, giving control over to him and hoping he can handle it. He can handle it. Jack asks if that’s confidence or ego speaking, and Valentin says he thinks they’re done here. Jack says he needs cash, and Valentin says, bribing his way through the system, he sees. Jack asks how else Valentin gets through, and Valentin says, fair enough, handing him some money. He tells Jack that he thinks that should suffice, and Jack says, thank you, Daddy Warbucks. He puts the cash in his pocket and says, one more thing. How’s Anna Devane? Valentin wonders why he asks, and Jack says, gives a whole new meaning to careful what you wish for, doesn’t it? Valentin finally achieves his undying dream of getting Anna to love him, only to watch it go up in smoke. (No. The writers got me to love him only to watch it go up in smoke.😖) Valentin asks if he’s done, and Jack says he supposes. Valentin says, because if Anna finds out about his involvement with Pikeman, it’s going to be the last Jack sees outside the prison walls. Jack tells him, don’t worry. Valentin’s secret is safe with him. Valentin says, he really is a bastard, isn’t he? and Jack says, so is Valentin. Two of a kind, eh? and Valentin gets out of the van.

Ava says, that was something else, huh? and Sonny says, that’s one way to describe it. She says, what’s his? and he says she doesn’t want to talk about this right now. She says she just wants to say one more thing, and thanks him for defending her to Carly. He says, she’s welcome. He knew it would piss Carly off. She says, still. It doesn’t happen very often and she appreciates it. He says he can’t believe he ever loved Carly. They raised a family together and he thought she would stick by him until the end, whether they were married or not. Ava says, whatever the relationship, he thought she’d always be loyal, and he says, there was always Jason. They were always together. They got married. She says, it’s been a hell of a day. Why doesn’t she fix him a drink. God knows she could use one. He thanks her and says he’ll be right back. He leaves the room, and she pours drinks, when Sonny’s phone dings. Ava picks it up and sees a text from Olivia: He’s awake, Sonny! Dante came out of it! He’s even talking! Ava put the phone face down on the mantel.

Sam tells Olivia, her turn, and Olivia goes into Dante’s room. Elizabeth asks Sam how Dante is doing, and Sam says, it’s definitely a struggle for him to talk, but other than that… Elizabeth says, she must be letting out the biggest exhale right now, and Sam says she honestly didn’t know. Elizabeth says she’s really happy for all of them, and Sam says, Dante confirmed it wasn’t Jason who shot him. She thought Elizabeth would want to tell Jake. She knows that Danny will definitely be comforted to hear that. Elizabeth says, so will Jake.

Carly and Jason go to a closed Bobbie’s, and he says he likes the new name. She says, Elizabeth made the sign, and he says, it’s a great tribute to her mom. She says she feels her mom here. She feels her everywhere, but this place was special to her. He says, so was Carly, and they go inside.

Elizabeth tells Danny that she saw him at the arraignment today, and he says he was hoping that wouldn’t happen. She says she could tell. She doesn’t think anybody noticed. They were all pretty distracted. Danny says he had to be there because he knew Jason was innocent, and she says, he really believes in his dad, doesn’t he? Danny says, of course (🍷), and Elizabeth says, he’s lucky to have Danny in his corner.

Jason says, to Bobbie, Carly says, to Bobbie, and they clink beer bottles. He says he’s sorry he wasn’t here for her, and she says, he would have been if he could. She knows that. Jason sighs, and she says, it’s crazy to her that Sonny doesn’t see that. What the hell is wrong with him? She’s used to him acting like that with her, but with him… It’s him and he’s back and she still can’t believe it’s real. He says he knows she has questions, and she laughs and says, a hundred and one. He says, she knows he can’t answer most of them, and she says she knows. But instead of them talking about where he’s been, why don’t they just stay in the here and now? They sit down, and she asks, how’s his gunshot wound? He says, it’s sore, but he’s healing, and she asks what Diane said. What are his chances? He says, uphill battle unless Dante exonerates him, and she says, then they just have to believe that’s going to happen. That he’s going to come to and tell everyone that Jason didn’t shoot him. He says he just wants Dante to pull through, and she says, her too, but she wants it for a lot of reasons. He asks if that’s all she’s got for him, and she says, one more. Obviously, he’s back. He says he doesn’t know for how long, and she says, he’s here until the trial starts, right? He says, yeah, and she asks where he’s going to stay.

Ava hands Sonny a drink and says she has the most incredible news. Sonny asks if he’s going to have to guess, and she says, Dante’s awake. He asks if she’s kidding him, and she says she just called the hospital for an update, and they said he’s awake and he’s even speaking. Sonny says, thank God, and she says, it’s a miracle, right? He says he should go to GH, right? but she says, they told her that he’s in with the doctor and they can’t be disturbed. So he’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see Dante. He says he has to call Olivia and Sam. Where’s the phone? She says she’s sure the hospital’s already done that. Why doesn’t he just sit down, relax, and rejoice in Dante’s good fortune? And put what Carly and Jason put him through out of his head. Honestly, that whole ordeal was just exhausting. He sits and says, exhausting, but necessary. He finally sees the truth about those two. It’s been staring him in the face for years. She asks if she can get him anything else, and he says, why doesn’t she have a seat? They can rejoice in the good fortune of his son. She says, happy to.

Once again the van is moving, and Jack tells the driver that he’s trying to figure out how long he’s known the man he just met with. They came up in the business together. Unlike most in their work, they were never true believers in anything other than getting the job done. Pragmatists. That’s why they rose in the job together. He’s sure this hardly looks like the job, seeing he’s being returned to his prison cell. He’s not going to complain. Anything to get a break from this place. Home sweet home. The driver stops the van and gets out. He opens the passenger doors, and Jack gets out. He says he’s sorry if he’s boring the driver. He doesn’t get out much. The driver starts to sign, and Jack says, Valentin. Val… Val… Val. Damn you’re good.

Sonny says he knows the hospital said Dante woke up. Did they say anything else? Like is he going to need surgery? Ava says she was so happy about the update, she didn’t think to ask those questions. Should she call back and ask? He says, that’s okay. Life is amazing, isn’t it? She says, in what respect? and he says, the constant balancing the scales. Just a few hours ago, he lost his best friend, but he also gained his son back. She says she’s so sorry about the first, and so happy about the second. She knows she hasn’t been in play nearly as long as Carly or Jason, but she’s here. He can count on her. He finishes his drink and says, it’s amazing with everything that’s happened with him, she’s the only one who’s been here for him. She says she’s probably not the only one, and he kisses her, tells her goodnight, and leaves.

Carly says, Jason has to stay somewhere, and he says he’s going to figure it out. She asks if he has any money, and he says, not at the moment. She gets up to get her bag, and he says he has money. He’ll have to get access to it tomorrow. She says he doesn’t have money to pay for a place to stay, so she wants him to come stay with her, but he says, that’s not happening. People could be looking for him. She says, then stay at the MetroCourt. He knows the security is great there. He says, no, that’s not happening, and she says, oh my God. Does he remember the room that she has here? When he lived above Jake’s and she lived here, does he remember that? He says, yes, he remembers, and she says, the room’s available. It’s nothing fancy or anything, but it’s clean. He’ll be safe and he’ll be fed. He can use the entrance for the delivery people. He can come and go as he wants. What does he say? He says, it sounds perfect, and thanks her. She says, it’s so funny. She had that room painted after the last tenant left, and she went up there to inspect. She walked around the room, and she was hit right between the eyes about how she used to feel when she lived there. How she came up with every excuse just to go to Jake’s so she could see him. She stood in the middle of that room, missing him so much, she could barely breathe. Now she doesn’t have to miss him anymore because he’s here. He’s home. They hug, and she says, oh my God. Does he think she’s psychic? Does he think she had that room painted because she knew he was coming back? He says, no, and she says, probably not, but he has to admit, it was really crazy. He says, it was, and she says, that’s always been the case with them, huh? Either perfect timing or… He says, the worst, when her phone rings. She says, Anna, and answers. Anna asks if Jason is there, and Carly says, no. Why? Jason listens in, and Anna says, when Carly sees him, will she let him know Dante’s awake? And he made it very clear that not only did Jason not shoot him, he saved his life. Carly says, that is amazing. She thanks Anna for calling her and says she’ll tell Jason when she sees him. Anna says, when she sees him, and Carly says, that’s right. Anna asks if she’ll also tell him thank you from her. Because if it wasn’t for him, she’d be down one friend. Carly says she will, and ends the call. She says, Jason heard that, right? and he says, Dante woke up. Carly says, that’s right, and he told everyone that Jason didn’t shoot him, and that Jason saved his life. Is he all right? Jason says, better than he was, and she says, her too, hugging him.

On Monday, Brook tells Blaze, this is a really smart step for her career; Natalia says something is unacceptable; Alexis tells Diane she’s not sure if she should proceed with this; and Jake asks why Jason is here.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny meets Dante in an outside eating area, and Dante says he took the liberty of offering Sonny a coffee. Sonny says, you can’t go wrong with a cup of Corinthos coffee, but Dante says, he didn’t order Corinthos coffee. (Why not?) He wonders if Sonny is going to the hearing, and Sonny says he is. Dante says, good, and Sonny says, he sounds surprised. Dante says he didn’t think Sonny would go. Michael won’t admit it, but Dante is sure Michael appreciates Sonny’s support. Sonny says he’s glad to hear it, but he’s going to be testifying on Nina’s behalf, not Michael’s.

In the Nook on the phone, Brook says, there has to be a way out of this. Just think of some sneaky lawyer move and call her back. Drew comes in, and says, bad news? She wonders why contracts can’t be written in English. Do lawyers take classes in making things confusing as possible? (Yes. So you’ll hire them to decipher it.) Drew asks if he can help, when Michael and Willow come in. Brook says, the petition hearing is today, and Michael says, yeah. This hearing is their best chance to keep Nina away from Wiley.

Nina walks into the empty courtroom, followed by Maxie. Maxie says she can’t tell what Nina is thinking. Is she nervous? Determined? All of the above? Nina says, it sounds like Maxie is the nervous one, and Maxie says she hates this is a court battle. She was hoping for a compromise. Nina says, they’re beyond compromising. That feature in The Invader proves Michael and Willow aren’t pulling any punches. She has a few punches herself.

Brad and Britt head into yoga class, and Brad asks if they can have lattes instead; it’s a little early for yoga. Britt says, it’s never too early for yoga. He was totally on board when she asked him. He says, that was last night. He didn’t get to sleep until early this morning. She says, hot date? but he says, no; running an errand for his aunt. She says, what kind of errand? and he says, delivering paperwork. He’s not a drug mule. She tells him, she didn’t say he was, and he says, she didn’t have to. She looked it.

Carly finishes a private yoga class, and tells the instructor that she took the class because she thought it would make her feel better. She’s going to court today, and really wanted to feel centered so she doesn’t do something she regrets. Carly thanks the instructor, when Britt and Brad walk in.

At NY Methodist, TJ brings Curtis coffee, and asks if there’s any news. Curtis says, the doctor is examining Marshall, and says there’s no change from last night. He suggests TJ join Molly at the hotel, and get some rest. He’ll call if he hears anything. TJ says, and if he told Curtis the same thing? and Curtis says, never mind. They sit, and Curtis says, he knows HIPPA prevents the doctor from telling him anything about Marshall’s condition, but TJ is a doctor. Couldn’t he tell TJ something, from doctor to doctor? TJ says he’s not Marshall’s doctor. All he can do is tell Curtis what he observed when he and Marshall were mugged. That knife cut very close to a major artery in Marshall’s arm, and the blood loss was major. Curtis says, when the doctor asked about Marshall’s medication last night, it let him know how very little he knows about his dad. They’d gotten close, but Marshall still hasn’t let him into his life. TJ says, he did use Marshall’s hotel keycard last night. They had to go through his personal effects to look for his blood pressure medication. Curtis says, and? and TJ says he found something he wasn’t expecting.

Chase comes out of the hospital elevator, and tells Finn, his text was cryptic, as usual. How’s Elizabeth? Why is she even here? Finn says, the situation is complicated. Terry’s in there with her right now. He thinks he knows who’s been harassing Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is getting dressed, and Terry says, not all her tests are in yet. Getting back into bed wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. Elizabeth says she’s fine; call her with her scan results. Terry’s tablet beeps, and she says, Elizabeth’s bloodwork was normal, but Elizabeth says, there’s nothing normal about having no memory of leaving Laura’s place and going to her own, and cutting up the drawing Violet gave her. Is she losing her mind?

Finn says, she was tearing up a photo that Violet had drawn for her (um… I think he means picture), and Chase says he’s heard some pretty extreme stories of sleepwalkers. He guesses that would explain the fire in Franco’s art studio. Finn says, the portrait on the mantel, the wedding ring in the locker… Chase says, Finn told him someone slashed her wedding dress. That someone was Elizabeth? Doc joins them, saying, he couldn’t help overhear. Maybe he can shed some light on Elizabeth’s behavior. Finn says, by all means, and Doc says, people have been known to carry on entire conversations, take a walk, even drive a car (yikes!) while technically asleep. He’s going to speak to Elizabeth now to see if they can find some underlying cause. Finn says, tell her he’s here, and he’ll be waiting if she needs him, and Doc says, of course (🍷). He goes in, and Chase asks how long Elizabeth has to stay. Finn says he only brought her in for tests to make sure there isn’t a physical reason for her behavior. She’s free to go any time. Chase says, physical reason? Does Finn mean like a brain tumor? Finn nods, and says, it’s a possibility. He’s hoping it’s just the sleep medication she’s been taking. Terry comes out, and says, Elizabeth wants to see him. Finn goes into her room, and asks why she’s not in bed. She says she’s going to tell him what she told Doc and Terry; she’s fine. Her bloodwork is normal, and Doc thinks it might be her sleeping pills that might be responsible for her sleepwalking… and everything else that’s gone along with it. Fin says, that’s good news, right? and Elizabeth says, yes, and she’s praying it stays the same, but she won’t feel better until she knows for sure. Finn says, at least they know she and the boys aren’t in any danger, and she says she hopes not. He says he knows not. If she’s the one behind all this, she’d never seriously hurt someone. She says, tell that to Chase.

Maxie says, so Nina is determined; good. Nina thanks Maxie for her support, and Maxie says, she’s family, but is she sure going for the jugular is the best move? She’s known Michael a long time, and he’s a decent guy. (Has she met him lately?) Nina says, until he isn’t, and Maxie tells her, she’s just saying Nina can’t escalate her way to a compromise. Nina says she’s been trying to compromise, but Michael and Willow don’t respect her rights as Wiley’s grandmother. She’s not going to walk away from that little boy, and Sonny doesn’t think she should walk away either.

Dante says, Sonny is going to testify against his own son? and Sonny says he’s not testifying against Michael; he’s supporting Nina’s right to be in Wiley’s life. Dante says, that’s great, but Michael’s not going to see it that way, and Sonny says, Michael doesn’t want any part of him; Dante knows that. So why shouldn’t he stand up for a woman who just wants to see her grandson? Dante asks if he doesn’t see the problem in that, and Sonny asks if Dante thinks Michael is being reasonable. Does he honestly think Nina would hurt Wiley? She loves that boy. Dante says, maybe, but you could say she already hurt Wiley by letting them believe Sonny was dead. Michael has every right to protect his son from her lies. Sonny says, Nina has already apologized a thousand times over. Michael is angry because his mother divorced Sonny, and he blames Sonny, so he’s going to retaliate by punishing Nina. Dante says, like father, like son.

Drew says, if they want, he can watch Wiley while they’re in court, and Willow says, Wiley would love a visit from his Uncle Drew. He’s playing with the nanny, and Josslyn is taking him to the park later. Brook tells them, good luck. Not that they need it. Nina should just save herself the job, and quit now. Willow says, Nina loves drama. She’s cast herself as the victim, and can’t wait to play it out in front of the judge. Michael says, she’s determined to drag this out to the bitter end, and Brook says, some people just prey on the innocent. Ned walks in, and asks, what’s this? Another family meeting he wasn’t invited to? Drew says, the hearing for Nina’s petition to spend time with Wiley is today, and Michael says they should go. Ned says he’s sorry. Nina has done enough harm to Michael’s family. He hopes they win. Michael thanks him, and he and Willow leave. Brook tells Ned, that was nice. We Q’s have to stick together. Ned says, we certainly do, and looks at Drew.

Britt asks the instructor if they’re early, and she says, a little bit; Veronica is teaching the next class. She tells Carly, good luck, and leaves. Brad asks if Carly has a second, and Carly asks what he wants. He says, obviously, the hearing for Nina’s petition to see Wiley is today, and Carly says she’s not discussing her grandson with him. Britt suggests they do some stretching before class, and he says he knows he has no right to love Wiley, but he does. He’ll always regret hurting Wiley and Lucas. Carly says, that’s great. Keep regretting. She starts to leave, but Brad says, Michael respects her opinion. Maybe she could suggest he work things out with Nina without involving the court. She asks why she’d do that, and he says, for Wiley. He doesn’t deserve more trauma in his life. She says, the turmoil began with him. Now get out of her way. He says, not yet, and Britt says, at least hear him out. Carly tells her to stay out of it, and brushes past Brad. Brad says, what happened with Michael and AJ could happen all over again with Wiley.

Curtis sees the doctor, and asks if his father’s okay. Did he regain consciousness? The doctor says, Mr. Ashford’s condition is stable, but he’s weak from the heavy blood loss, and TJ asks what the MRI and CAT scan showed. The doctor says, unfortunately, Mr. Ashford hasn’t designated either one of them as his medical. All he can tell them is, his results were encouraging. Curtis asks why he’s still unconscious, and the doctor says, head injuries are tricky. Sometimes the body shuts down to give the brain time to heal. TJ asks what the possibilities are on lingering aftereffects, and the doctor says, it depends on the patient. Curtis asks what they mean by aftereffects, and TJ says, memory loss, reduced cognition, partial paralysis, but Marshall’s tough; he can wake up and be fine. Curtis asks if he can see Marshall, and the doctor says the nurse is in with him now, and will let him know when he can go in. He has to go, but assures them Marshall is getting the best care possible. He leaves, and TJ tells Curtis, sorry. He just gave Curtis the worst case scenario. There’s no reason Marshall should have any of those aftereffects. Curtis says he can’t worry about that now. TJ has to tell him what he discovered in Marshall’s hotel room. TJ hands Curtis a prescription bottle, and says, his medication. It’s not what they thought. Curtis says, it’s not for his heart? and TJ says, it’s an anti-psychotic.

Drew asks if Ned really thinks they’re meeting behind his back, but Ned says he was joking. Drew says, he’s still opposed to the Aurora/ELQ merger, and Ned says, yes. Because he believes he’s the right choice to lead ELQ after they get rid of Valentin. Drew says he’s trying to be as tactful as possible, but Ned has no media experience, and Ned says, so they throw him a bone, and make him COO? Drew says, if he doesn’t like the position, that’s fine. Make him a counter offer, anything other than CEO. Ned says, Drew and Michael are in no position to offer him anything. He’s stepped up whenever ELQ needed him. He has a longer history with the company then Drew or Michael. Drew says, Ned is right. He did miss a few board meetings while he was being held prisoner by Peter August, and Ned says, he certainly didn’t race back to the company when he was freed. Brook says, enough. What is it with this family? Does everything need to be a death cage match?

Curtis says, Marshall is on an anti-psychotic? So when he collapsed back in January, it wasn’t because of his heart? TJ says, it could have been. Some anti-psychotics cause heart issues. After the attack, Marshall might have switched to a different prescription. Curtis asks why someone would be on medications like this, and TJ says, there are many reasons. There’s no way to know Marshall’s actual diagnosis. Curtis says, unless he wakes up and tells them himself.

Elizabeth zips up her overnight bag, when Chase and Finn come in. Finn says, going somewhere? and she says she doesn’t do well lying down. She tells Chase that she’s so sorry she gave him a concussion, but Chase says he can’t be mad when she wasn’t aware of what she was doing. She says, he’s a much better person than she is. She can’t imagine wanting to hurt him. Terry joins them, and says, Elizabeth’s test results are in.

Sonny tells Dante that he was ready to stand up for Michael, even though he thinks Nina has every right to see her grandson. He went over there, and Michael rejected him and everything he stands for. Is he supposed to sit back and take it? Dante asks if Sonny hears himself; Sonny is proving his point. Sonny asks what Dante’s point is, and Dante says, Michael is too much like him, lashing out at Nina… Sonny says, so Dante agrees Michael is being unreasonable? and Dante says he thinks they both need to grow up before they lose each other forever.

Maxie says, Bobbie threw a drink in Nina’s face? Did she throw one back? Nina says, no, but she wanted to slap her. Sonny stopped her, but that’s a good thing. She doesn’t want to give Michael and Willow any more ammunition against her. Maxie says, so Sonny looked after her, and Nina says, yeah; he’s on her side. Maxie asks if Nina is thinking there’s a chance for her and Sonny, and Nina flashes back to The Savoy, and Sonny saying she’s not trouble. Michael and Willow approach the door, and Nina says, she thinks so, even though his entire family hates her. She feels horrible about how bad it’s gotten, but she’s not going to apologize for caring for Sonny. He cares about her too. He even offered to testify on her behalf. Michael dashes in, and asks if he heard right. His father is going to be a character witness for her?

Elizabeth says, Terry is certain her MRI is normal? and Terry says she’d never lie to Elizabeth. Elizabeth says, so there’s no medical reason for her sleepwalking? and Terry says, not according to the tests they’ve run so far. Finn asks, what about the sleeping pills? and Terry asks how long she’s been taking them. Elizabeth says, she doesn’t know. She got them after Franco was killed, and her schedule got crazy. She would take them in the morning after working a night shift. Terry says, the pills could affect Elizabeth’s behavior. She’s going to order more tests. She leaves, and Elizabeth asks Doc if her actions could just be the result of medication. He says, or is there a deeper problem beneath the surface?

Carly asks what Brad is talking about, and he says, she and Sonny kept AJ from Michael for years. When AJ came back to Port Charles, Michael was an adult, and wanted a relationship with his father. Britt tells him not to go there, and Carly says she can’t explain to him how many ways he has this wrong. Brad says he was in prison. Does she know why? She says, because he tried to pass off Michael’s son as his own, and he says, because the truth always comes out. And when Wiley finds out Nina is also his grandmother, he’s going to want a relationship with her, and feel that he was cheated and robbed of that growing up. Carly says, or, when Wiley’s and adult and able to comprehend all the damage Nina did to various members of his family, he’s going to be grateful he didn’t have her hovering over him, demanding he love her like the narcissist that she is. Brad says, okay, have a good day, and goes into the classroom. Carly tells Britt that she needs to get better friends. He’s an idiot. Britt says, he can be, but right now, he kind of has a point.

Dante says, testifying for Nina is crossing the line, and Sonny says, Dante is the one who told him that Michael is not only cutting him out of his life, but that Michael’s actively working on taking him down. What is he supposed to say? Go ahead. Thank you. Dante says, no. He’s just telling Sonny to back off a little bit. Let Michael cool off a little. Michael sees his job as protecting Wiley and Willow, and like it or not, Nina has a history of questionable behavior. Willow just found out Harmony killed Neil and Brendon Byrne to prevent the secret that she wasn’t Willow’s biological mother from coming out. Michael is reacting to everything; everything is a threat to him right now. Sonny says he’s not a threat; he’s Michael’s father. Dante says, then act like it. Wait until Nina’s petition is resolved, and things die down. Sonny says, what if he doesn’t? and Dante says, then he runs the risk of losing Michael forever.

Nina says, after the way Michael’s been treating Sonny, Sonny’s decided he’s done supporting him, and Michael says, he sees. Maxie asks if it has to be like this. They’re all adults here. Can they all act like it? Willow says, the only one not acting like an adult is Nelle’s mother. She has no place in Wiley’s life. Nina says, despite what they think of her daughter, Wiley is her family, and Maxie says, and they all know how important that is, right? There’s no limit to the number of people who can love a child. She feels, the more the merrier. Michael says, if Felicia hadn’t killed Peter, was he going to be part of Bailey’s life?

Brook says, isn’t the main thing to get Valentin out as CEO? Who cares who replaces him? Drew tells Ned, she’s right. They just need to focus on getting rid of Valentin. Ned says he needs to get changed for work, and leaves. Drew says he loves Brook’s passion, and she says, they should be fighting together, not against each other. He says he couldn’t agree more, but he gets the feeling there’s more to this than just ELQ. Is it that contract? Maybe they can figure it out together. She says, her producer’s back in town, and he says, that’s not a good thing? She says, that is correct. When Drew was gone, he followed her back to Port Charles. You look up the word sleazy in the dictionary, you’ll see a picture of Linc’s face. He started this whole mess in a way. She was so desperate to get rid of him, Valentin bought her contract in exchange for her ELQ shares. Drew says, that’s how he became CEO, and she says, and Lucy cast the tie-breaking vote. He says he’s guessing that’s the contract in question, and she says, yes. The most reckless, short-sighted thing she’s ever done is sign that contract. And now Linc claims to own all her intellectual property that she made while under contract with him. He says, all her songs? and she says, Linc even has demos, so it’s not like she could claim she wrote them when she wasn’t under contract with him. She doesn’t see a way out of this. But wait. If Valentin bought the contract, wouldn’t he own the songs? I don’t get this.

Curtis tells TJ, the court sent Marshall to a psychiatric facility when he was arrested at that protest. When he confronted Marshall about the truth, he refused to talk about his diagnosis. Can someone take these meds for decades, and still consider themselves cured? TJ says, with the right medication, many people with mental illness can manage their symptoms and live quality lives, but Curtis says, he just doesn’t understand how Marshall could abandon his family and let him and Tommy think he was dead, with mom’s approval. TJ says, it can take time to settle on the right medication. Maybe Marshall was volatile, not to mention the stigma; it wasn’t understood back then like it is today. The nurse comes out, and says, Curtis can see his father now. Curtis goes in, and says, Marshall Ashford. The more I get to know you, the more questions I have.

Drew asks if Brook spoke to a lawyer, and she says, yeah. He’s looking for a loophole. Drew says, she told him that Linc is super sleazy? and she says, he’s most wanted on the metoo list. He says, sue him for sexual harassment; it will void the contract. She says she sort of punched him a couple of times. He pushes her buttons. She was really hoping she’d never have to deal with this guy again. He says, easier said than done if he owns her songs, and she says she guesses she’ll just have to live with this. He says, she can move on, write more music; music that won’t fall under the contract, and she says she’s already done that. And she does have a really great job at Deception, which she’s pretty good at, if she does say so herself. So what if Linc owns some of her past? Drew says, he shouldn’t own any part of her, past, present, or future. Her phone beeps, and she says, speak of the devil. Linc sent her an email.

Carly says, the next time Britt finds herself agreeing with Brad, don’t. Britt says, Nina is her cousin. She wants Nina to be able to see Wiley. That said, she understands Nina’s caused Carly’s family a lot of pain. She also understands that simply saying, oh gosh, I feel bad about that, let’s move on, changes nothing. Nina’s not going to give up. In her mind, Wiley is all she has. Carly says, it’s not Wiley’s job to fill the void in Nina’s life. Britt says, that’s true, but what happens when Wiley gets older, and Nina goes to him with her tale of woe? I wanted to see you, but your mother and father wouldn’t let me. Carly says, Wiley is smart. He’s not going to fall for Nina’s hysteria. Britt says, really? A rebellious teenager. Does she think he’s going to be okay with the truth? Carly says, sometimes you have to make hard decisions to protect your kids, and Britt says, so that’s it? There’s no option B? There’s nothing else that can fix this situation? Carly flashes back to Drew saying, if Michael goes too far with Nina, and Nina is Willow’s mother, it will change things for Willow, whether she wants it to or not. What if the DNA test proves it? What is she going to do? Britt says, there has to be some way for Michael, Willow, and Nina to see things differently.

Maxie asks if Michael is really comparing Nina to Peter, and he says, only from a legal perspective. If Peter had lived, he’d have legal standing as Bailey’s father, just like Nina has legal standing as Wiley’s grandmother, because of a biological relationship and DNA. That doesn’t always make a family. Willow is Wiley’s mother, period. Nina says, like Harmony was Willow’s mother. Maxie says, Nina… and Nina walks to the petitioner’s table. Maxie’s phone rings, and she excuses herself. Willow stomps over to Nina, and says, she believed her entire life that Harmony was her mother. Knowing the truth now doesn’t change her childhood memories. Nina says, what about the people her mother stole her from? What about her biological parents? Willow laughs.

Sonny tells Dante, of course (🍷) he doesn’t want to lose Michael and Wiley, but Michael has already made it clear that’s already happened. Dante says, Sonny told him that he hadn’t seen Michael this angry since he got custody of Avery, and Sonny was convinced he was going to lose Michael then, but he didn’t. Underneath all that anger, Michael loves Sonny just as much as Sonny loves him. Think about that before he gets on the stand on Nina’s behalf.

Chase asks Terry if she thinks they’ll figure it out, and she says, as a doctor she can’t comment, but as Elizabeth’s friend, she sure hopes so.

Doc says, there could be an emotional source to her sleepwalking; something in her subconscious that wants to get out. She says, it already got out. It set fire to Franco’s art studio. It attacked Chase. She could have stabbed Cameron with those scissors. Finn says, there’s no way she’d harm her children, but she says she doesn’t know what to believe anymore.

Willow says, Nina assumes she was stolen, but what if she was given away? What if her biological parents didn’t want her, or couldn’t keep her? She has no idea what happened, and neither does Nina. She just wanted to wound Willow because Willow wasn’t saying what she wanted to hear. Michael says, when Nina doesn’t get her way, she goes straight for the jugular. What a wonderful role model she’ll make for Wiley. Nina says, they push and push until she reacts. Then they stand back and act all superior. She has news for them. That gutter they pushed her into, they belong right there with her. Michael says, they pushed her into letting their family believe their father was dead? Tell him, how are they responsible for that? Nina wonders how many times he’s going to say that. She apologizes; she regrets her decision, but is this about Wiley, or hurting her? Willow says, it’s about protecting their son, and Maxie says, sorry to interrupt. It was the school nurse. She has to pick up James at pre-K. He’s okay, but he has a fever. She pulls Nina away, and says, if Nina wants to see her grandson again, stay away from Willow and Michael. She’s making it worse.

Brook tells Drew, Linc sold one of her songs. She thought he was lying about shopping them around. He says, that’s good, right? People will still be able to hear her music. She says, he sent a link to the demo. She plays it on her phone, and it’s an electropop number. She says, this isn’t her song; it’s a crime, and he says, it didn’t sound like something she’d write. She says, lyrics are her soul and he murdered them, and he says, as a songwriter, she has to get used to artists putting their spin on her words and music. She says, that’s fine. That’s what singers do. They put their own interpretation on it, while understanding the intention of the lyrics, not turning it into trash. He says, it sounds like she’s got to fight this guy, and she says, damn straight she does. She gets on the phone, and asks what someone is up to. She needs their help

Curtis holds the prescription bottle, and says, this is why Marshall thought it was better for his sons to believe he was dead? Did he really think they cared about that? He can tell Marshall right now, he would have rather grown up with his father than without him. Even if he was struggling, he shouldn’t have let his pride drive him away from his family. That’s not fair because he doesn’t know what Marshall was going through when he made the decision to leave. He knows Marshall wanted protect him and Tommy. When Marshall kept quiet, then turned up in his life after all those years, it’s like Marshall wanted Curtis to distrust him, to think the worst of him. All he had to do was tell the truth. Did he give Marshall a reason to have so little faith in him? Was he quick to anger? Was he unwilling to hear Marshall out? Marshall didn’t want to talk, and maybe he didn’t listen, but it can’t end there. Marshall has to wake up. He just has to.

Brad comes out, and asks, where’s Carly? Britt says, relax. She’s done torturing him… for the day. Where did he get the courage to confront her? He says he guesses he learned a thing or two from his Aunt Selena. Britt says she can’t tell if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. His aunt has been keeping him busy. Aside from the late hours, how’s the job going? He says, surprisingly… okay. He kind of likes the work, and his aunt’s a fair boss. Britt says, and demanding, but he says, nothing he can’t handle. So if he hasn’t thanked her for encouraging him to take the job, thanks. Everything turned out pretty well in the end.

Ned sees Drew alone in the Nook, and asks, where’s Brook? Drew says, she tore out of here on a mission, and Ned says, and the mission is? Drew says, something Ned probably should hear from her, and Ned says, he’ll speak with her later. Drew says, what about them? Should they speak now or later? Ned says, how about not at all, if he’s not the next CEO. Drew says, he, Ned, and Michael have to figure something out to make Ned happy, but Ned says, Drew already knows the answer to that. He has to get to the office, since he’s the only Quartermaine who actually works at ELQ.

In the new outside space, Brook taps on the table, then looks up, and says, thanks for coming. Chase sits, and asks, what’s going on? He says, has Linc been harassing her again? and she says, not in person. He asks what that means, and she says, she’s taking her life back, and he’s going to help her.

Elizabeth says she never wants to close her eyes again, and Doc says, she has to sleep sometime. She says, and when she does, what happens? Is he going to tie her to the bed? Sedate her? Finn asks Doc, now that Elizabeth is aware, is there a chance that will deter it? Doc says he can’t make any promises, and until they know the root cause, there’s always a chance it will happen again. Elizabeth says, that’s what she thinks. That’s why she’s made the decision to protect her family.

Curtis says he doesn’t care what issues Marshall has. He wants Marshall back in his life. Please. Give him a chance to make it up. He can only do that if Marshall comes back to them. Just open his eyes. Please. Marshall opens his eyes, and panics, but Curtis says, he’s here. It’s him. It’s your son.

Nina tells Michael, for God’s sake, she’s not going to hurt Willow, and Michael says, just leave them alone. Nina says, not until they hear her out. She went too far earlier. She’s sorry Willow lost her mom. Even though she had her faults, she was still Willow’s mom and it’s still painful. Willow says, save your breath. They judge won’t be fooled by Nina’s fake remorse. Nina says, let her ask them this. Are they so perfect they’ve never made a mistake? Michael says, she lied and misled them repeatedly; that’s not a mistake, it’s a pattern of behavior. One they want to protect Wiley from. Nina says, regardless of how it affects the rest of their family? and Sonny walks in.

Outside the courtroom door, Carly gets a text. It says, the DNA test results are in. She can pick them up at her earliest convenience.

Tomorrow, Curtis says he’s not going anywhere, and neither is Marshall; Elizabeth says Finn has to let her go; Diane tells Michael and Willow, if they want to win, there’s only one way to play it.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Ugh. Ashley.

Port Mahon. Daisy tells Ashley that she wants to work as a team, and to get the hierarchy thing out of her head. Both stews will be the same, and she wants Ashley to concentrate on the teamwork. In Daisy’s interview, she says, after what she went through last time, Ashely might be unhappy she’s not second, but it’s not about experience; it’s about character. Ashley’s not there yet. Gary tells Kelsie that she’s going to be on days, and Ashley instructs Scarlett on the fine art of cleaning mirrors with vinegar. In Barnaby’s interview, he says he’s annoyed about being on nights. It’s boring. They should have an exciting guy on in the day to make the guests happy and the tip bigger, and the perfectionist on nights. Daisy tells Marcos about putting both stews on the same level, and he thinks that’s better. Gary lurks around the stews, and tells Ashley to stop being childish. They should all kiss and make up; that’s what friends do. He thinks Scarlett makes everything better, and in Scarlett’s interview, she says, Gary is fun, but she senses tension with Ashely and doesn’t want drama. It’s so annoying. Ashley tells Scarlett, fair warning. Gary is a f***ing loser. Because, what else is she going to say? The provisions come in.

Barnaby is worried that he’s going to be bored on nights, but Kelsie tells him, you stay pretty busy. They do windows, and in Kelsie’s interview, she wonders if it’s wrong to think she works harder than Barnaby. He works just enough to get the job done, while she does the job with a cherry on top. She can’t relate. Daisy tells Scarlett that she’s on 8 to midnight. Tonight, Scarlett will do dinner, and Ashley will turndowns, and tomorrow, they’ll switch. Ashley tells Kelsie that Scarlett is very green. It’s an hour to the guests’ arrival, and Gary does a walkaround. Daisy checks the rooms, and Ashley says she’s going to ignore Gary for the rest of the season. Gary hunts down Scarlett in the laundry, and says, just the person he’s looking for. He kisses her neck, and hugs her. In her interview, Scarlett says, he’s definitely flirting with her, so she’s going to flirt back. In Gary’s interview, he says, she shouldn’t be a stew. She should be a supermodel. He’s sweating. They kiss a little, although not passionately, and I wish Ashley would walk in.

Glenn calls the crew to the cockpit, and in Scarlett’s interview, she says she thinks Gary is exciting. Wow. I just don’t see it. Maybe he’s different in person. Gary is now sporting what passes as a mustache, and Daisy says, he literally couldn’t look any creepier, but Gary says he thought the looked cute. The guests arrive, and Glenn says, it’s nice to see familiar faces, as well as new faces. In Glenn’s interview, he says, the last time they had an all-female charter, it was challenging. We flash back to the Erica Rose charter, and the bunch of mean girls that they were, and Glenn hopes that this time, they have better manners. Daisy gives the tour, and Glenn is ready to drop the lines. Gary gives the all clear, and they pull out. Marcos sends up fancy snacks, and one of the guests remarks that they grew up on Lunchables and mac and cheese. Primary Keely tells Daisy that Marcos can make what he wants, and in Marcos’s interview, he says, the primary is gluten-free, two guests don’t want shellfish, and two are dairy-free. His options are getting smaller to make the menu, and it’s not going to be easy. Gary wants to find out who irritates Daisy the most, but Scarlett says she’s not playing. The guests ask for the rope swing to be set up, and Daisy tells Scarlett that it’s wigs and sequins tonight. Gary tests the swing, and Barnaby helps the guests use it. Guest Jennifer has a false start, which is pretty funny, then guest Jennifer does a belly flop, which is funny-not-funny.

Barnaby tells Glenn that he’s done a lot of sailing, but this is his first 28 meter. He asks if Glenn has done much racing, and Glenn says the boat has done well in regattas. Daisy tells the stews to change into their blacks for dinner at 8:30, and Glenn says, they have to be finished at 9 since he’s eating with them. The stews decorate in disco style for the sequins and wigs dinner, and don wigs. In Scarlett’s interview, she says she’s never done a dinner, and wants all the firsts over with. Daisy explains the table settings to her, and the guests are seated. Glenn has no wig, and one of the guests sticks a tinsel thing on his head, which he’s a good sport about. Marcos says he’s making duck, since it’s the only thing not on the preference sheets. There are different dishes for different guests, and Marcos tells the servers to keep it straight, but they have a hard time. One of the guests says they’re scared to eat duck, which sounds really stupid. Scarlett tells Ashley that she set the wrong food in front of a guest, and Ashley says, it’s not like she dumped it all over them. Although I’m sure she’ll tell Daisy that Scarlett made some grievous error. Another guest says they feel terrible eating a duck, which I can understand, but I wonder how they feel about eating a chicken. Glenn is like, oops, my wig fell off. Oh no. A guest asks, what if there’s no wind? and Glenn says, a real sailor can make wind. He tells them that they need more than they had, and to wish for wind tonight. The gluten-free chocolate dessert looks amazing, even though it doesn’t sound like it would be. In the crew mess, Gary tells Scarlett that he has a crush on her, and she says, maybe it’s mutual. Gary says he thinks they click. In Colin’s interview, he says, Scarlett is the new girl on the block, and Gary is making his best moves and pulling out all the stops. He can’t figure out how Gary’s brain works. In the cabin he shares with Marcos and Colin, Gary gets in his bunk. There’s a knock at the door, and both Colin and Marcos insist it must be Scarlett. Gary gets down, and realizes it’s Colin knocking on the wall. Ha-ha!

The 10 course dinner is coming up, and Marcos realizes he’ll need 80 plates, but he’s not worried. Scarlett hugs Gary good morning, as Daisy and Marcos watch. The guests get up, and Ashley instructs Scarlett on the fine art of folding towels. Glenn asks the guests what they’d like to do after breakfast. There’s no wind, but they can go in the tender where there’s blue, blue water and play around. The guests pronounce the idea cool, and Gary and Kelsie gather goggles and snorkels. In Marcos’s interview, he says, guests like 10 courses because they want to see how many quality cuisines they can have in one night. He wants the same experience for the guests with restrictions. It’s not easy, but not impossible. Gary wants to bring Scarlett along on the tender, and tells Daisy that he needs a stew to serve drinks. No surprise, suggesting Scarlett. In Daisy’s interview, she says she has him so figured out. It will be him and Scarlett chatting and flirting for an hour. This sh*t is so predictable. She tells him, that’s not going to happen. She asks if he really needs a stew; she’d rather not send someone. Gary insists, it looks more professional, but he can do it himself. She says, he gets what she’s saying, and in her interview, she says, there’s one reason to be here; it’s work. Gary says he’s not arguing with her, but it would be more professional. He tells the deckhands, he can’t win with that chick. He’s over working with her. Daisy says she doesn’t think he needs a stew, but she’s going to go herself to prove a point. Before the guests are ready to board the tender, Gary tells Daisy that she doesn’t care about the guests, and she loves to start fights. She asks if he’s serious. She’s here for the guests. He’s an a-hole. In her interview, Daisy says don’t accuse her of not caring about the guests, and putting the guests first. She asks him if he’s an insane a-hole.

Daisy tells Gary not to lecture her; is he insane? He tells her, calm down, and she says, it’s not funny. In Daisy’s interview, she says, she’s not upset that he wants a stew; it’s the accusatory tone and how he’s inferring she’s not professional, and doesn’t care about the guests. Ashley and Scarlett clean the cabins, and the guests swim in the blue, blue water. Gary tells them to catch a fish for lunch. Barnaby cleans the waterline on the outside of the boat, and Ashley complains to Marcos that she has to expend extra energy telling Scarlett what to do and how to do things. Daisy keeps asking if anyone wants a drink or wants their drink topped off, but there are few takers. In her interview, she says, WTF is she doing here? It’s f***ing ridiculous. The guests come back, and get ready for dinner. Glenn tells Gary that he knows the captain of the neighboring boat, and he’s wondering about doing a race, a friendly competition. Gary says, if the wind picks up, he thinks the guests will like it. In Glenn’s interview, he says, they haven’t been able to sail match, so a race will make it special. He’s done a lot of races on the Parseval, and it does pretty well on the race course. Why not have a little fun? Scarlett tells Ashley that Gary has been coming on strong, and asks if it bothers her. Ashley says, Gary isn’t worth it. If she’s upset, it’s not because she likes him. Scarlett says she doesn’t want to step on any toes, and in Ashley’s interview, she says, what does Scarlett want her to say? Hook up with a guy who will treat her like sh*t? Marcos tells Colin that everyone has to help with dinner, and in Marcos’s interview, he says, a 10 course dinner isn’t easy to do by yourself. Plating is tricky, and logistically, it’s a nightmare. Gary and Scarlett go to the upper deck to look at the sunset, and Daisy says she asked Scarlett to check on laundry. She’s sick of it. The guests sit for dinner, and in the crew mess, Glenn says, holy moly, that’s a lot of plates. Daisy gripes to Scarlett about Gary, saying the unprofessional comment banged on her. All Gary does is cause trouble. Don’t f*** a stew, then try for her roommate, and she’s unprofessional. In Scarlett’s interview, she wonders where this came from. Daisy says, if he’s not interested, why sleep with her? The guests sit for dinner, and every dish looks fabulous, and I’m sure tastes fabulous. The guests say, it’s the best dinner ever, and are unanimously wondering what’s under Marcos’s apron. Marcos says, he’s so exhausted, and in his interview, he says, the guests are imagining him with an apron and no shirt. He’s here to fulfill any chef fantasy they have. Thank God he knows how to please a picky woman.

Guest Belinda suggests they invite Marcos to the hot tub later, when the last dessert (there were two) comes out. The guests tell Marcos that everything was wonderful, and in Marcos’s interview, he says, ten f***ing courses on a sailing yacht. It’s time to lay on the couch. Gary tells Daisy that he’s sorry for picking a fight. He was being petty, and she has good reason to be pissed off. She says he’s freaking her out, and he picks her up in a hug. In Scarlett’s interview, she says, there’s a vibe thing between Gary and her boss; it’s a weird dynamic. Gary asks if he and Daisy are friends again. He’s sorry for being a d*ck. She tells him, it’s okay.

Glenn sees the wind is going to come up, and makes a call to Andy on La Cattiva. He explains they haven’t been able to do any sailing, and asks if Andy wants to do a fun race. Glenn tells the guests he’s organized a race with the boat behind them. They won’t be just sailing, but racing. The guests decide to skip breakfast, and Daisy tells Marcos, they’re not doing the meal. After he’s made a bunch of food. Send. It. Here. Immediately. Glenn shows Colin and Gary the race route, and Gary wakes Barnaby to tell him about the race, in case he wants to be part of it. Barnaby gets up, and in his interview, he says he’s not a seasoned yachtie, but he’s raced a billion race boats. Let’s get this thing cranked over. Glenn tells Andy, when the horn sounds, start racing. Glenn blows the horn, the sails are unfurled, and Colin says, there’s no such thing as a friendly race.

To be continued…

🌅 Joy In the Morning…

Thanks be to God, I’m back on my regular computer, but I’m beat from fighting the good tech fight. Stop by tomorrow for soap and most likely tea, since only RHOM is on. I can’t recap them all, although I do watch it peripherally. My favorite takeaway point so far is that there are mechanical sharks instead of mechanical bulls in Florida. Makes sense. So until next we meet, stay safe, stay resilient, and stay remembering, the truth always comes out.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Willow says, Chase, please. Don’t give Austin the power to go after the Quartermaines, and he tells her, considering she just told him that she’s in love with Michael, maybe she isn’t the best person to make this argument. Michael says he gets it. He and Willow kept the truth from Chase, but that’s on them, not the rest of the Quartermaines. Chase says he’s right. His family didn’t do anything. He hands Michael the paper, and tells him to do what he wants with it. He starts to walk out, and Brook says, his wheelchair. He says he doesn’t need it anymore. He doesn’t need any of this. Austin says, congratulations. The better man won.

Sonny finds Phyllis outside, crying. He hugs her.

Maxie shows Carly her phone and says, well? Carly tells her, she said understated, remember? Maxie guesses polka-dots are a bit much. She’ll find something less 50s retro. Carly asks if they can do this another time. She’s meeting Josslyn and Jax for a dinner date. Maxie says, absolutely, and don’t worry. Her wedding is going to be gorgeous. Carly says she knows it will, and thanks Maxie for helping her. Maxie thanks Carly for keeping her mind off Louise, and says they’ll talk tomorrow. In the hall, Maxie runs into Valentin carrying Bailey/Louise in a sling. He says, hey, Maxie.

Peter says, the more interesting question is, what is Sonny Corinthos doing here, alive and well, and calling himself Mike? as Nina takes out the gun. Nina says they haven’t talked about Peter, and he says, why don’t they sit? They obviously have so much catching up to do. Before she can bring out the gun, he points his own at her.

At the pool (🍷), Spencer tells Esme, that was Doc. He wants to talk about their plan. She says, sounds ominous. Does he want them to get jobs? He says, bite your tongue. His grandmother leaves town for two seconds on mayoral business, and Doc thinks he needs to take her place. He didn’t mind Doc at first, when they first got married, but it’s not like they kept in touch that much when he was away at school. He doesn’t understand why Doc is trying to intervene, and take control of his life. She tells him everything will be fine. They have a plan. It’s just not the one Doc thinks they should have. He says he never asked her to set fire to Ava’s car, and she says, but now he has an alibi, and daddy dearest is pretty guilty about talking to Ava. He’s got his father right where he wants him. Relax. Enjoy the moonlit pool (🍷), and of course (🍷) his girlfriend. She calls to Trina, who comes over to their table.

Carly thanks Cameron for joining them, and Josslyn thanks Carly for doing this. Jax says, it’s a real pleasure. This is a big event. It’s their little girl’s freshman year of college. Josslyn says if he calls her their little girl one more time, she’s going to leave, but he promises to be on his best behavior. He can’t say the same for her mother. Carly says they don’t have to worry about her. She’ll be just fine, and keep Josslyn’s dad in line too.

Peter asks Nina if they can’t play nice, and she says, absolutely. He should really put that gun away before Mike returns. He asks if she doesn’t mean Sonny. He guesses he’ll just have to take care of him too. She tells him that he should relax more. Would he like something to drink; perhaps some wine? He says, just her cell phone. Please. She takes it out, and comes around the bar, putting on a table. She says, happy? and he says, very. He takes the phone, and she sits down. She asks where he’s been, but he says, details aren’t important. Of course (🍷) once Maxie betrayed him, and secretly recorded his confession and sent it to Mac, he had to disappear. No easy task. She says, no one knew if he was dead or alive, and he tells her, let’s just say he was lying low. He also searched for his precious Louise. A search that’s taken him straight to Maxie.

Valentin says, it’s wonderful to see Maxie, and asks, how was Texas? She says, Georgie and James really enjoyed seeing their great aunt; she of course (🍷) spoiled them rotten. Bailey’s grown so much since she’s been gone. He says, a couple more pounds, and she’ll be ready for management at Deception, and she says she’ll be happy to work for Bailey any day. How is Deception? She was on her way there now to go through her accumulated messages. He said he just came from there. He was showing Bailey off to some of the staff. She notes what Bailey is wearing, and says, she’s going to be so beautiful and stylish when she grows up. She says she’d better go, but he asks her to wait. There’s been a development in Louise’s case.

Willow tells Michael, she has to talk to Chase. She can’t leave things like this. He asks if she wants him to come with her, but she says, it’s between her and Chase. She leaves, and Brook asks if Austin is proud of himself. Or are there any other lives he’d like to destroy? Michael says, Brook… but she says she means it. This Gatlin-Holt creature better scram before she calls the cops on him for trespassing. Austin says he’s not going anywhere until he gets what if he came there for, so if they don’t mind… He holds out his hand for the paper, and Michael says, what he minds is Austin manipulating Chase to get this. That’s as underhanded as a person can get. Austin says, no more underhanded than sleeping with the man’s wife. (Touché.)

Esme asks if Trina is there alone, and Trina says she’s there to meet Joss and Cam after their dinner with Joss’s parents. She came a little early to work on an assignment for one of the electives they’re taking at PCU together. Esme says, how adorable. She’s never had childhood friends that she’s known since forever. Trina says she and Spencer aren’t close; they just met. Spencer says she knows that’s a lie.

Josslyn tells Carly and Jax, she was starting to believe Spencer was behind it all; then the call from Ryan Chamberlain, the writing on the wall that said, this ends tonight, the power outage… Cameron says, when Joss’s bodyguard started talking about getting them off the island in a Corinthos boat, he knew Spencer wasn’t behind it. Josslyn says, it turns out Spencer’s father was pulling the strings, and Cameron says, all to keep Spencer a lesson, when he hadn’t even done anything. He guesses Spencer did throw a huge party without permission, and Josslyn says, but he didn’t stalk Ava. It blows her mind that his dad even thought he was capable of that. Anyway, she’s sorry Tony called Carly. Jax says, it’s better to err on the side of caution, and let her mother know what’s going on. Her life, unfortunately, is more dangerous than most kids her age, even if… Carly says, even if what? and he says, even if Carly is preoccupied with other things. Carly says, she’s never let other things, or business, get in the way of protecting Josslyn, or her other kids. He knows that. Josslyn says she really wasn’t in any danger, and Jax says, they know that now, but it wasn’t that long ago that Novak guy approached her at Kelly’s and harassed her. Carly says, Josslyn is fine, just like she said Josslyn would be, so they can just let that go.

Brook tells Michael, don’t listen to this snake. Just let him slither on out of here, and back under the rock he came from. Michael says, Austin took advantage of a complicated situation he knew nothing about. Chase has been through hell, but so has Willow. Not that it matters to Austin. He just cared about finding an opening he could exploit. Austin says, Chase is a grown man; he doesn’t think he exploited Chase at all. Despite what they think, he’s not some heartless bastard. If he did let his baser instincts guide him, maybe he does owe Chase an apology. Brook asks how that will make anything better, and Austin says, all he’s trying to do is right a terrible wrong that was done to his father. His dad was not a perfect guy – far from it – but he was always there for him. He worked really hard to put Austin through medical school, and in return, he watched his father die a slow and painful death. Brook says, it’s too late, and any sympathy points he earned for his dad were gone the second he used Chase to poke around in Edward’s office. It’s a nice sob story, but they’re not buying it. Right, Michael?

Chase opens his door to Willow, who says she’ll understand if he wants to slam it in her face, but she would really like to talk to him. He asks, what else is there to say? and she says, besides the million apologies he probably doesn’t want to hear, the AC conked out in her car, and she could use a glass of water. He steps aside, and she comes in. He says, what she’s probably going to say, is that she didn’t start out intending to lie to him. She says, she and Michael realized how much they cared for one another, and she came there to tell him. He gives her some water, and says, he was so sick, he passed out on the floor. She took him to the hospital instead. He gets why she didn’t break up with him that night, but after that, she had plenty of chances. And she was going to tell him, the night of his pretend Nantucket getaway, but then Finn interrupted, saying he had the cure for the poison that was killing him. She says, when it didn’t work, she knew she couldn’t tell him. He says she should have, and she should have turned down his marriage proposal, but she says she could never say no to him when he needed her.

Trina asks if Spencer is calling her a liar. He says he just meant she doesn’t have to cover for him. He told Esme that Trina knew he was in Port Charles before anyone else. Esme says, she and Spence have no secrets, and he says, Trina wasn’t thrilled to find out that Victor was just an alias, and he was really Spencer Cassadine. He thanks her for not telling anyone, and Esme says, aw, Treen. <gag> What a true friend. Spencer says she is; he’s lucky to have her. Esme suggests he rustle up some truffle fries for them. Are they as good as the ones they had in Brussels when they were studying for midterms? He says they’ll find out, and leaves. Esme says, he’s so sweet, but Trina already knows that. Trina says she really doesn’t know Spence that well, and Esme says, it’s just them. They can be real with one another. She knows Trina has a crush on her boyfriend.

Peter tells Nina, since his own search didn’t turn up any results, he was hopeful Maxie might be following some leads. Nina asks if she was, but he says, no. It’s all the same. He’s going to be the first one to find his daughter, and when he does, Maxie will have a choice. If she wants to be in her little girl’s life, then Maxie will have to share her life with him as well. She says, Maxie doesn’t know he’s following her, and he says, once it was safe for him to resurface, he tracked her to Texas, but when he arrived, Maxie was already leaving. He followed her there to this quaint little town, and this quaint little bar. When he found her… and Sonny. She says, Maxie’s not here anymore, and he says he’s aware of that. He was about to follow her, when he ran into Sonny… or is it Mike? He’s told her his story; now let’s hear hers.

Sonny tells Phyllis, eight months ago, he washed up in Nixon Falls with only the clothes on his back, and a watch that was engraved with his name on it. She not only gave him a place to stay, she gave him a life, and made him a part of her family. They’ll miss Lenny. She cries, and he takes her hand.

Jax and Carly toast to Josslyn, and Cameron says, speech! Josslyn thanks them for embarrassing her in a public setting, but she wouldn’t love them as much as she does if they hadn’t. No way is this goodbye. She’ll still be home every weekend with her dirty laundry, and she’ll be there for the wedding of course (🍷). Jax says, oh yes, the wedding. Have they set a date? Josslyn says, they did; September 17th, and Jax says, so soon. Carly says, why wait? and he says he can think of a few reasons. Josslyn asks if there’s something wrong.

Valentin says, Anna is certain that Peter survived, and Maxie asks how that’s a development in the search for Louise. He says, Peter is very well connected, and well financed. He’s Faison’s son, and could have all of his father’s assets and contacts. If that’s the case, he’ll use them to find Louise, unless he’s already found her. Maxie says she doubts that, and he asks why she says it like that.

Nina says, since Carly covered up the death of her daughter, she desperately needed to get away. So she came to this quaint little town, Nixon Falls, to visit a friend. He says, Phyllis. She and Sonny mentioned him. She says she was just as surprised as he was to find Mike there, and he asks if she doesn’t mean Sonny. There’s no one there except them; no need to use Sonny’s alias with him. She says she calls him Mike because he’s Mike to her. He’s kind and he’s gentle, and he loves the simple life. She hasn’t thought of him as Sonny in a very long time. He asks how Mike came to be, and she says, he lost his memory when he fell into the river looking for Julian Jerome. Peter asks if the memory loss is permanent, and she says she doesn’t know. All she knows is that he’s happy. She didn’t tell him the truth because she thought it would ruin everything he found there. Peter says, oh Nina. It’s very kind of her. He’s sure getting one over on Carly never even crossed her mind when making that decision. Nor the fact that she’s fallen for Mike.

Carly says she and Josslyn’s father had a little disagreement, but that’s okay, because tonight is about her. Jax says, absolutely, and suggests they order. Josslyn asks if they’re going to be like this all night, and Jax says, like what? Carly asks Josslyn and Cameron to give them a minute to talk. Head over to the pool (🍷), and they’ll call them when it’s safe to come back. They leave, and Jax says, Carly just told Josslyn this was about her, then sent her to the pool (🍷). Is this what it’s going to be like from now on? They can’t even be in the same room?

Josslyn tells Cameron that she’s so sorry. She’s never seen them act like that before. They’ve had their fair share of arguments, but never in front of her or her friends. He says she doesn’t have to hide the messy parts of her life from him. His family’s far from perfect. She says, still, and he says, it’s him. The boy she pushed in the sandbox when she liked his pail better than hers. The boy who went trick-or-treating with her all three years when she dressed up like a stalk of corn (the corn again!). She asks him not to bring that up, and he says he knows her. He knows her family. He’s sorry her parents are fighting, but it doesn’t matter to him. She’s so amazing, and makes him feel like the luckiest guy in the world. They kiss.

Esme tells Trina (Treen – ugh), it’s okay. She only brought it up because she didn’t want there to be any awkwardness between them. Trina asks why she cares. Why is she going out of her way to be nice to someone she thinks likes her boyfriend? Esme says, Trina didn’t do anything wrong. Spencer didn’t even tell her that he had a girlfriend. Trina asks if it doesn’t make her mad, and Esme says she knows how guys are. They’re denser than a redwood forest, and Spence is no exception. She’s sure he didn’t mean to lead Trina on. She’s not into girl-on-girl rivalry. Trina asks if she walks on water too, and Esme says she likes Trina’s sense of humor. She seems like a really nice girl, and Esme would like to be friends with her. At the very least, she’d like them to get along for Spence’s sake. She can tell Trina’s friendship means a lot to him. Spencer comes back, and asks what he missed. Esme says, just a little girl talk.

Willow says she never wanted to hurt Chase, but that doesn’t change the fact that she did. She gave him hope, then took it away. All she wanted to do is repay him for everything he’d given her. He asks if she’s talking about Wiley, and she says, before Wiley. After she gave her baby to Brad and Lucas, she was so empty and alone. She had no family, no one to turn to. Then he walked in; Detective Harrison Chase. Handsome, intelligent, and above all, kind and understanding. She thought, I could build a home with this guy. Her horrible past no longer mattered. Just the present and future she was going to have with him. Then… He says, then he and Sasha staged the affair.

Michael says he understands where Austin is coming from. He lost his own father recently. Austin says he’s sorry to hear that, and Michael says, family was the most important thing to him, and he’s like him in that respect. Family is everything to him too. Austin says he’s not trying to threaten Michael’s family, and Brook says, Austin coming after ELQ is coming after the family. Austin asks how that’s hurting them; to be getting a few shares of ELQ? That document proves that Edward wanted his father to have those shares. His father isn’t there to claim his rightful seat at the table, so he’s going to have to do it for him. Michael says, that’s very noble of him, but you know what’s not? Using Chase. Taking advantage of a very painful situation. Why would Michael ever let him in by those methods?

Austin says he made a desperate play using Michael’s friend Chase – who’s not his friend, by the way – and that’s it? There’s no coming back from that? Michael says he’s in no position to judge. His father could never stand a hypocrite. Michael hands Austin the paper, and Brook asks what he’s doing. Has he lost his mind? Michael says, Austin played dirty, but he’s not the only one. Their family has a history of playing dirty, especially when it comes to ELQ. It’s time to break the cycle. Austin thanks him, and says, it means a lot. Michael says, don’t thank him yet.

Chase says, when he and Sasha came up with the plan, he knew there was a possibility of losing Willow. He told himself it was worth it, no matter how painful. It was more important that she and Michael get custody of Wiley. Then he took a step back, and didn’t tell her the truth when he saw how close she and Michael were getting. Then they started spending all this time together, and it was like it was before. She says she felt like if there was a chance she should take it; she wanted to take it. He says, what really hurts is that he truly believed she loved him as much as he loved her.

Esme asks if Trina plays tennis. It was mandatory at their school. She’s good, but Spence is addicted; he’ll probably play all weekend. While he’s out pursuing athletic glory, can she interest Trina in a mani/pedi? What time works for her? Josslyn and Cameron arrive, and Josslyn says, they have a bunch of startup semester parties and events to go to. She doesn’t think Trina is even going to be available this weekend. Trina says, that’s right; she’s totally booked. Esme says, that’s okay. Some other time then. She takes a fry from Spencer, takes a bite, and says, they’re amazing. As good as the ones they got in Brussels. Why don’t they get more; her treat. He says, at your service, mademoiselle, and glances back at the others as he and Esme walk away. When they’re out of earshot, he says, what’s with the girl bonding thing? Esme says, Trina is a nice girl, and she’s got good taste. He says, Esme… and she says, it’s fine, Spence. They just have to be careful. Trina knows things about him that could hurt his plan. He says Trina’s not like that, but she says, broken hearts can do strange things. She wouldn’t want all his hard work to be for nothing. She wants him to have everything he deserves.

Josslyn asks, what’s going on between Trina and Esme? but Trina says, nothing. She’s got it handled. Josslyn looks at Trina, as Trina looks at Esme sitting down with Spencer. Trina says, okay. Maybe she doesn’t.

Sonny says he told Nina that this feeling of loss is really familiar, and Phyllis asks if he remembers losing someone. He says, if he did, he doesn’t know who, but it was a real aching… in here. He touches his chest. He says he knows if it was somebody, they’d have to be important, like Lenny was. She hopes he knew love in his previous life. It’s the greatest gift a human can receive. He says he’d be lucky to find what she and Lenny had, and she says, he has. Even if he doesn’t know it yet. She thinks he’s in love with Nina. He smiles.

Nina says Peter has a vivid imagination. She doesn’t have feelings for Mike. He laughs, and says, it’s too late to cover. He saw the way they were looking at each other. Imagine if he told Carly that her husband was alive and well, and being kept secret by her. How fast does she think Carly would ensure she’d never see Wiley again? She says, just tell her what he wants, and he says, there we go. He’s always thought she was a smart woman. Cards on the table. He found it very difficult, searching for his daughter while being forced off the grid, so he needs some shelter and a place of operation. She says, he’s Faison’s son. Why doesn’t he just tap into Faison’s former contacts? He says, it would be simpler to have her ask Maxie and Valentin for him, without raising any red flags. They trust her, and they’ll tell her what they’ve learned. And she, in turn, will relay it to him, so he can find Louise first. She says, and if she doesn’t do it?

Carly asks what Jax thought would happen when he tried to blackmail her? He says, it wasn’t blackmail, and she says, he recorded their conversation on his phone, and tried to get her to admit to criminal activity. He says he was just trying to protect Josslyn, and she says, if he was, he’d respect the decisions she made about Josslyn’s well-being. He asks, what about respecting his decisions? Does she ever once see things from his point-of-view? In what world does she think taking over Sonny’s business is safe for their daughter? She tells him to keep his voice down. Josslyn doesn’t need saving, and neither does she. He, on the other hand, could learn a lesson in humility. He asks what that’s supposed to mean. Is she going to tell Josslyn what he did?

Michael says Austin might not get a seat at the ELQ table, and Austin says, why not? Michael says, because the lawyer wrote to Edward after a conversation about changing his will, but Edward never followed through. The will was never changed. Austin says, the letter proves that Edward was at least thinking about his father. He’d like to believe a judge would agree. Michael says, good luck then, and Austin thanks him, adding, this would make his father so happy. He leaves, and Brook asks if Michael is happy now. He just cost them ELQ.

Maxie tells Valentin, she prays every day that her daughter is returned home safe, but she’s done with false leads and dead ends. It’s part of the reason she left town. She’ll never stop hoping Louise comes home safe, but until that actually happens, she needs to focus on being her best self. For Georgie and James. And for her. It’s the only way she’s going to heal. He tells her not to take this the wrong way, but if she’s not ready to return to work, don’t rush it. She thanks him, and says, but she needs to keep busy, even when it’s hard.

Peter says, if Nina won’t help him find his dear Louise, know this. James will be a more than adequate replacement. And if she even thinks about telling Maxie, he’ll return the favor, and let Carly know that her not-so-dearly departed husband is there, and exactly who he’s spending his time with. So she has a choice to make. She either helps him find his daughter, or she suffers the consequences. She asks if she has his word that he won’t touch James, and he says, if he has her word that she’ll do everything in her power to tell him where Louise is. She stands up, and says, they have a deal.

Sonny tells Phyllis, even if he and Nina are… Look, all she has to do is go to Port Charles, spend time with her grandson, and then she doesn’t have to come back. Right? Phyllis says, mm-hmm, and takes his hands. She says, you can always come up with excuses not to go after something because you’re afraid. She can’t tell him the number of people who told her it was too soon to marry Lenny; he could be deployed at any time. They’d be separated more than they’d be together. But she knew. In her heart, she knew Lenny was the one. Her only regret was that they didn’t have enough time.

Carly says she would never undermine Josslyn’s relationship with Jax, and he says, glad to hear it. She says, but Josslyn’s not their little girl anymore, as she keeps telling them. If he wants to say on his moral high horse, he’s going to lose her all on his own. He asks if that’s what Carly is hoping for, and she says, no. She always wants him to be in Josslyn’s life, even if he’s not in hers anymore. He says, they’re always going to be in each other’s lives because they’re co-parenting Josslyn, but she says, they’re not. Josslyn’s moving out; she’s moving to the dorm. The days of them raising Josslyn together are over. He says, just because Josslyn is going to college doesn’t mean they’re not going to see each other. They’ll be at volleyball games, graduation, a wedding hopefully. She says, yes. Their paths are always going to cross, and Josslyn is always going to connect them, but the days of raising Josslyn are over. They’re going to show up as mother and father. Nothing more.

Willow says, she and Chase shared a beautiful, once in a lifetime love. Then he sacrificed it for her and Wiley. She’ll always love him for that. He says, Sasha told him that Willow would leave him for Michael, but he knew it was worth the risk, because Wiley is her life; he’s her whole world. He couldn’t forgive himself if he did nothing to help her keep him

Jax says, Carly has been one of the most important people in his life, and they just walk away; that’s it? She says he’s been one of the most important people in her life. He gave her Josslyn, and she’ll always love him for that. But she doesn’t trust him anymore, and let’s face it, he doesn’t trust her. He asks how many times she’s forgiven Sonny, or how many times Jason and Sonny have forgiven her. Were his actions that unforgivable? She says, he never used to live in a black and white world. She remembers when him living in a grey area suited him just fine. But he changed, at least when it comes to her actions, and she can’t have somebody in her life who’s going to judge her all the time, or go behind her back and hurt her. So this is their new reality, and it’s totally on him. He’s going to have to find a way to live with it.

Esme says she’s been thinking, and Spencer says, always dangerous. She says they’re going to be in Port Charles for a while, seeing their plan through. He says, her point? and she says, they may as well find something to do. Maybe they should prey on his step-grandpa. He asks if she thinks they should get jobs, and she says, ugh, no. She suggests they audit some classes at PCU. She’s feeling collegiate.

Chase says he’s really grateful for having Willow in his life, and she says, her too. How many people could say they loved as deeply as they did? He says, not many. They were lucky. She says, they were, and he says, no more apologies. She takes off her wedding ring, and he holds out his hand. She places it in his palm.

Michael tells Brook that she’s wrong. They keep ELQ by ending their family dysfunction. She says, they don’t keep ELQ by handing out shares to random strangers, and Michael says, maybe Austin wouldn’t have been a stranger if grandfather wasn’t so harsh, or Tracy so self-serving. She says he doesn’t know that. No one does. There’s no point in worrying; they’re only in the here and now. Despite all of Michael’s noble intentions, that doesn’t change the fact that he just made a big mistake.

Valentin sees Austin come in, and asks Maxie to hold Bailey for a second. He’ll just be a minute. She tells him to take his time, and is obviously thrilled. She picks up a binkie from the table.

Valentin sees Austin at the bar, and asks if it would have been luckier to schedule a dinner than a lunch. Austin says for Valentin, not for him, and Valentin says, productive day? Austin shows Valentin the paper, and says, check it out. The keys to the kingdom; the kingdom of the ELQ boardroom. He’ll see Valentin there. Valentin says, yes you will.

Nina and Peter are about to shake hands, and Peter pulls her a little closer. He says she mentioned he was Cesar Faison’s son. Remember that if she ever thinks of double-crossing him. Sonny comes back in, and says he hopes they’ve had enough time catch up. Peter says, not quite as much as he’d like. He’s sticking around Nixon Falls for a while. Nina said she’d show him around. Sonny says, okay. He looks forward to getting to know one of Nina’s friends. Peter says, it will be really great to get to know him too, and Nina looks sick.

Tomorrow, Michael asks if it would really be the end of the world, Finn asks if Chase would do things differently if he could go back, Carly tells Josslyn that she doesn’t know why it feels weird, and Peter tells Nina, an eye for an eye

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I missed the very beginning – meeting ran late – but I doubt it was anything earth-shattering. When I tuned in, LisaR was whining that she felt like she was losing her grip on her kids. They were leaving the nest, Harry was in Romania working, and everyone was gone. She and Harry were beyond proud of how their kids had overcome challenges. In her interview, she said Crystal had offered to host a launch party for Rinna Beauty at her house. LisaR thought maybe Crystal wanted to balance out the last time they were there, and we flashed back to the ugly leather pants incident.

In Crystal’s interview, she said she hosted parties all the time. It fed her intense control scheduling personality. I guess that’s a fancy way of saying control freak. Dorit came by, and said Kyle’s dinner had been intense. We flashed back to that, and Dorit said, it was a holiday party, and Erika was a shell of herself. It didn’t seem night to pounce on her. She also felt that Garcelle had been making jabs at her. In Dorit’s interview, she said it was happening too often. We flashed back to what Dorit thought were jabs, but I thought of as the truth. Dorit said it was starting to piss her off, and Crystal thought it was best to address things like that early. In her interview, Dorit said she and Garcelle had been friends, and obviously she was trying to say something she didn’t have the guts to say.

Erika said she hadn’t lived alone in almost 30 years. Cleaning was her way of meditation. I totally understand this. My motto is, when in doubt, clean something. She said if she was having good sex, it wouldn’t be as depressing. I’ll bet she hasn’t had that in over 30 years either. BA-DUM-CHH! My heart bleeds for her. LisaR arrived with champagne, as the three of them were going to celebrate Kyle’s birthday. She asked Erika how it was going, and she said, like she told her lawyer, she needed to get past this, and unpack the emotional stuff later. Kyle joined them, and they popped the champagne, drinking out of fancy glasses Erika said she’d snuck out of the house in the night. LisaR also got Kyle a very pretty grey faux fur coat, and in LisaR’s interview, she said it wasn’t from her garage; she actually purchased it. For those not in the know, she has racks of designer clothing in her garage. She said she’d seen Dorit, who said Sutton was still nervous because she hadn’t asked the question she’d wanted answered. Kyle said she wasn’t being a bitch, Sutton was just saying she didn’t want legal and/ or society problems. Erika said, how small town of her. What will the neighbors think? In her interview, she said, we’re not in Augusta, Georgia, bitch. It had zero to do with any of them. She asked, how about her effing fear, wondering how this was going to play out? She talked about having discovered Tom’s cheating, saying, Yolanda had said, boys will always protect boys. When she got home from Yolanda’s condo, Tom was sleeping. She opened his phone, and wanted to make sure she was seeing what she thought she was. In Erika’s interview, she said she’d thought of leaving before, but how and where? She was solely dependent on her husband. She told Kyle and LisaR she’d made plans not to leave, but work for her own money. LisaR reminded them, we have champagne and cake, bitches. I have to say, I don’t remember ever having called by girlfriends bitches. And it looks pretty unattractive coming from a 75, 68, 58 year old.

In LisaR’s interview, she said she couldn’t have launched at a more difficult time, but when you’re a hustler, you do what you need to do just to keep going. She was like a cockroach; you couldn’t get rid of her. Agreed. During the interview, a bug literally flew into her lip-gloss and got stuck. If that wasn’t repulsive enough, she plucked it off, showed the camera, and then put more lip-gloss on. Bleh. The launch party was set up in Crystal’s backyard, and it looked beautiful, with bowls of pink roses on the table. Although I was surprised to find that the launch party only consisted of the women on the show. I guess it was a more upscale way of LisaR handing out lipstick samples in her living room. They began with cocktails, Erika asking for a drink called No Apologies; no hot toddy this time. In Garcelle’s interview, she thought it was ironic that Erika had made that choice. In Erika’s interview, she said she wasn’t putting any expectations on Sutton, especially since it was her own reputation being trashed. In Sutton’s interview, she said she still didn’t like it and had questions, but she could go to a lipstick party. They toasted to LisaR launching a beauty line in a pandemic year. She’d killed it. They sat down for lunch, and Dorit said she’d been thinking about Garcelle a lot. Something had been bothering her for the last couple of months. Garcelle had been making jabs at her. She didn’t know why, but she’d been noticing it, and it didn’t sit well with her.

Garcelle asked, what kind of jabs? and Dorit said it was more her tone; it was obnoxious and rude. We flashed back to Garcelle saying, as if Dorit would ever stick up for Sutton, and in Kyle’s interview, she said, Garcelle wasn’t wrong, but go ahead. We also flashed back to Garcelle calling Dorit on what she’d said about Erika, and then flashed back further, to when Dorit said everything she knew to be true about Erika was really the opposite. In Garcelle’s interview, she said she wasn’t wrong about that. Dorit said Garcelle caught her off-guard, and seemed like a bully. Garcelle told her, stop it right now, and in her interview, she said, a bully picks fights. She was reacting. Bully was a loaded word, and it wasn’t okay. Dorit asked why Garcelle was doing this, and if Garcelle had a problem with her. Garcelle said it wasn’t a problem, but she felt like when they were all discussing something, Dorit hijacked the moment. It felt like no one had a chance to say anything. Dorit asked if Garcelle considered them friends, and Garcelle said she did, but Garcelle also didn’t know where she sat with the group, and felt like an outsider in a way. LisaR said they’d had a great relationship before, meaning before LisaR acted like a complete ass about Denise. Garcelle said they’d talked about that, and we flashed back to Garcelle telling LisaR that it was going to take some time. Dorit said there was an easy way to feel like a part of the group; be honest. I’d thought that’s what Garcelle was doing, and Garcelle said she didn’t have a problem with Dorit. Only when she wouldn’t let anyone else speak. And she didn’t believe she was the only one who thought that. Kathy diplomatically said, it wasn’t like Dorit hadn’t heard it before. In Kyle’s interview, she said, Garcelle had a point. If you asked Dorit what time it was, she’d tell you how to build a clock. Yep. I know those people. Kyle told Garcelle that she might have been passive/aggressive about it, but she was being honest now. She’d gotten into it with Dorit, as had Erika. In Erika’s interview, she said Dorit was known as a marathon talker. When Dorit is talking, she checks in with herself… How’s the dog?… Did she lock the door?… Where is she going tomorrow?… Then she said she absolutely agrees with what Dorit is saying.  Then, because Dorit really doesn’t know when to shut up, she brought up how Garcelle relayed what Erika said about Tom calling her every day. We flashed back to Erika saying Garcelle had betrayed their friendship. In her interview, Dorit said Garcelle poked until she made you uncomfortable, and then acted surprised, but she knew what she was doing. Garcelle got up, and said, f*** you, to Dorit. A few times. Dorit asked if Garcelle was taking the easy way by walking out, or were they going to talk it out. Garcelle said, f*** her with that. She knew exactly what happened. She’d talk it out if it was going to be fair. In Erika’s interview, she said she wasn’t mad about it; she understood. It was a misunderstanding. We flashed back to them hugging it out, and in her interview, Garcelle said Dorit kept bringing it up because she was looking for stuff on Garcelle.

Garcelle sat back down, and in Crystal’s interview, she said she got why Garcelle was upset. This was the third time they’d talked about it. She told the women, Garcelle wasn’t there when Erika said she didn’t want to talk about it, but Erika said she didn’t say not to mention it, confusing everyone. Sutton tried to interject something, but Erika wasn’t having it, and told her, shut up, small town worried about her reputation. Sutton laughed, and Erika said she could go all day with Sutton. Go get another mo fo legal opinion. Sutton told Erika not to take her problems out on her, and Erika said her problems didn’t effect Sutton. Her small town sh*t was whack. Crystal said she thought it had been a private moment, and Erika said, it was. Dorit said she believed Garcelle was smarter than that, and Garcelle told her not to jump in on something when she wasn’t there. Dorit got back on the hamster wheel, and said, Garcelle had been giving her jabs, but she didn’t want to be accused of belaboring a point. Garcelle said, case in point. She’d say whatever to Dorit’s face moving forward. Dorit could let it go just yet, and said it made her feel sh*tty. Garcelle said she heard Dorit, and would approach things differently. LisaR said she was glad they were talking about it. We flashed back to years ago, when LisaR said in her interview, if someone else didn’t want to talk about it, you’d better believe she’s going to talk about it.

Kathy’s cutest, tiniest white Pomeranian named Muffy, was sitting on the presents under the tree. At first, I thought she was going to pee on them, but she was a good girl. Kathy said she did it every night. She showed Kyle the glassware and such she was going to use for her dinner, and in Kathy’s interview, she said it took a good four days for her to lay out what she wanted to use. I noted that her candle holders were $950, and she also had $150 party favor tiaras for everyone. I want to go to one of her parties. In her interview, she said, Dorit liked to do a entire look for the evening. She does it on the table. They had lunch on TV trays, and in Kyle’s interview, she said, growing up, their mom used TV trays, and Kathy still does. It made her laugh how Kathy brought it to another level; TV trays, but elegant. Kathy asked what Kyle thought of the launch party, and Kyle said, it was great… until it wasn’t. She was surprised when Garcelle told Dorit, f*** you. Kathy wondered when that happened, and Kyle said Kathy was probably putting on her lipstick. We flashed back, and sure enough, Kathy wasn’t paying one bit of attention to anything going on around her. She was just concentrating on that mirror.

At LisaR’s afterparty, they had a lipstick reader, who seemed incredibly accurate, and told Kyle her mom was disappointed. Kyle said she’d later admitted she had googled everyone, and American Woman came up. Kathy said their family had put up with scrutiny for so many years, it drew attention to them. In Kyle’s interview, she said she and Kathy had their first setback in their relationship when she and Mauricio started an agency. It was the first time they’d had an issue. We flashed back to 2011, and Kyle and Mauricio on the beach, talking about family. In her interview, Kyle said Kathy thought it was going to disrespect her mother or sister. We flashed back to 2015, and Kyle talking to LVP, telling her, any time she tried to have a conversation to create peace, it just never went well. Then we flashed back to 2017, with Kyle talking to Dorit about being estranged from her family. Kathy said there were so many things out there, there was no way it could be anybody else. It put their mom in a bad light, and jealous people made comments. In Kathy’s interview, she said she did have her lawyer send a letter saying she and her family couldn’t be used. She would have done it with her own kids. I can’t believe anyone cares that much. Kyle said it was inspired by their mom, and a love letter to her. In her interview, Kyle said it was difficult to talk about. She was so scared it was going to spark another issue. Kathy asked why Kyle didn’t talk to her about it beforehand, but Kyle said they weren’t speaking. Kathy insisted she wouldn’t have done it without talking to Kyle, and Kyle said if it had been a real story about their real family, she wouldn’t have done it. It was about a single mom in the 70s, learning how to navigate. Kathy said some of it was off-color, and talked about things you’d only understand if you’d watched American Woman. In Kyle’s interview, she said one of the things Kathy was talking about was Alicia Silverstone on a floaty in a pool, smoking. She thought it was benign. In Kathy’s interview, she said, if it’s shown, people think it’s their family. It’s unacceptable. Okay, your highness. She told Kyle that Kim had never said an unkind thing about it, but Kyle thought Kathy probably just forgot things Kim had said. There were times Kathy and Kim had been close, and she was the outsider, and times Kim was the outsider. There was also the Christmas when Kyle wasn’t included. In her interview, she said, when her mom passed, the dynamic changed. Her mom had been the mediator. We flashed back to the infamous limo scene, where Kim accused Kyle of stealing her goddam house. In Kyle’s interview, she said if their mom was still alive, they’d still argue, but their mom would have brought them together. She thinks it’s time for healing the wound. Kathy reached out for her and Mauricio to join them for dinner.

Two months earlier. We saw Kyle and Mauricio talking, and Mauricio said, all wounds healed with time, but this one was taking longer. In Kyle’s interview, she said she never wanted to go back to that place, and got all teary . Kathy got teary in her interview too, saying, what a waste.

Next time, Kyle asks Sutton about Erika’s divorce being a sham, Sutton thinks the divorce looks fishy, and Erika tells Sutton to STFU.
