General Hospital

Jason comes to the interrogation room, and asks if Sam is okay. Diane says, okay is a bit of a stretch. They’ve gotten bad news. Sam is being transferred to Pentenville tonight.

Jax walks into the hospital, carrying a bouquet of flowers. He sees Carly, and she asks what he’s doing there. He says he was bringing her the flowers, but he’s surprised to see her dressed. She says she’s being discharged, and he asks about Donna. She says Donna has to hang out there for a while, but she hopes not much longer. He’s glad things are going well with the both of them, and asks if she needs a ride. She says Sonny is picking her up, but she thinks he made a stop. She thinks she knows where.

There are flowers on Morgan’s grave, and Sonny says he sees Morgan had visitors today. It should give him comfort. So many loved Morgan and remember him, but right now, all he can think about is how wrong it is that Morgan is gone.

Trina, Cameron and Josslyn carve pumpkins in Sonny’s kitchen. Trina asks, why are they doing this again? Since it’s two weeks until Halloween. Cameron says the pumpkins will be rancid by then. Josslyn says Avery is over the moon excited about Halloween, and she wants to make it fun for her. Dev walks in, and Trina tells him to grab a knife. He asks what they’re dong, and Trina says, carving jack-o-lanterns. Josslyn says, for Halloween. Dev asks if Sonny is around. He wants to borrow a car. If Sonny isn’t there, he’ll just take it, and be back before Sonny is home. He knows Sonny’s other kids would do that. Josslyn says when her brother took the car when he wasn’t supposed to, it exploded with him in it.

At the hospital, Finn remarks that Alexis has a new trainer and a new outlook. She says, Alexis 2.0. He says he was a fan of the original, but happiness looks good on her. She suggests he try it, but he says he is happy. He just has it on a low simmer until Anna gets home. She asks how that’s going, and he says he has Roxie to talk to, but it gets frustrating, since he never knows where she stands on things. Alexis tells him to admit he’s miserable, and he does. She asks what he’s going to do about it.

At the MetroCourt bar, Peter tells Obrecht, no. He doesn’t think submitting her column from abroad will add an air of sophistication. Does her leaving have anything to do with Sasha’s identity scam?

Nina sees the suitcases, and asks if Valentin is running away. He’s not even going to try to explain? Valentin says he can explain, but he won’t try to defend it.

Finn tells Alexis that his misery has to do with Hayden. Alexis thought they had no issues, but Finn says there will always be an issue. That doesn’t mean he wants a life with her. She suggests Finn is high maintenance, but if the temptation issue isn’t the thing, what is the thing? He says he knows Hayden is lying to him.

Obrecht tells Peter, his insinuation isn’t worth a response. He says, if she knew nothing, why the sudden departure? She says, like with him, the masses will assume the worst, that she did a horrible thing to her niece, and she’ll be railroaded to Pentenville. Peter says, one would think it’s where she belonged all alone. One meaning him. She says the winds might change for him as well. Or have they already?

Jax asks how Carly is feeling, and she says, good. She just wishes she could get out of there. He says, and take Donna? She says, the thought of leaving her without her… He says if she took Donna, it would be what she wants, but not necessarily what’s best for the baby. Carly says, it would be selfish to take her now, and he says he’s known her to be selfish in other aspects, but not as a mother. She says she’d like to believe that, but they know the truth. He can say it. He has no idea what he’s supposed to say, and she tells him, if she hadn’t gone back to Sonny, there’s a good chance Morgan would still be alive.

Sonny says Morgan should be out living life, with his potential and gifts, and meeting his baby sister. She’s so cute. When he thinks of the loss and injustice, he gets angry, and the angrier he gets, it poisons everything. That wouldn’t honor Morgan, so he goes on with living life. For the most part, he succeeds, but he misses Morgan. He touches the headstone, and says he misses Morgan so much every day.

Cameron tells Josslyn, Dev didn’t mean it like that, but she doesn’t care. She says her brother died three years ago today. Now is not the best time to make jokes about Sonny’s car. She runs out of the room, and Dev asks if he should go after her. Trina says, definitely not.

Jason tells Sam, don’t make waves; just go through the motions. He knows she’s tough, and tells her to know he can do it. He’ll get her out as soon as possible. A guard comes in, and says they’re waiting to process Sam’s transfer. Sam says, let’s do this, and he takes her out. Diane says Jason just promised to get her out. Tell her how he’s going to do that. it’s not going to be easy.

Nina tells Valentin, start simple, but Valentin doesn’t think that exists. She asks where he’s going, and why. Valentin says he’s taking Charlotte home to Greece. He doesn’t want her being in the same town as Nina. If he loses her all over again, it’s his fault, but he’s not putting Charlotte through that. Nina says, what about Lulu? Won’t it hurt Charlotte not seeing her? Valentin says Charlotte and Lulu have a fine relationship, but Charlotte doesn’t love Lulu the way she does Nina. So he’s taking her home to Greece. He’s sure Lulu will lawyer up, and they’ll hash it out, but it’s important that he and Charlotte be together as far away as possible. Nina says she might not agree, but she understands why. Whether she feels good, bad, or indifferent about him, she can’t argue with how much he loves Charlotte. How could he put Charlotte aside, and have her love and believe she had a new sister based on a lie? Valentin says Nina knows why, but she says she needs to hear him say it. He says it was the only way he could get her back.

Carly tells Jax, sorry. Today is the anniversary of Morgan’s death. He says he knows. He and Josslyn put flowers on Morgan’s grave. She thanks him, and he says, they’re just flowers. Carly says he was Morgan’s stepfather, and made sure Morgan had a happy childhood. There was so much love, and tons of laughter. Jax says he loved being a family. Watching her be a mother made him want a child. Carly says, enter Joss. He’s glad Josslyn is theirs and Carly is her mother. They made Josslyn. Carly says she’s glad too. He says, what happened with Morgan was the result of a lot of choices, not just hers. She knows, and he says, does she? She says she’s trying. He says she loved Morgan the best way she could, and gave him what she could. She she cries a little, and thanks him. He asks if she’s sure he can’t give her a ride, but she says there’s somewhere she has to go, and she has to do it alone.

Dev says he’s seen pictures, and people have mentioned Morgan, but he didn’t know about Josslyn’s brother. Trina says, he was kind of wild, but super nice. Cameron says, he was awesome with his sisters. Trina says, Josslyn doesn’t talk about him often, but it’s obvious she loved him. Dev says, she must miss him, and Cameron says he can’t believe he forgot what day it was. Trina says they both did.

Peter tells Obrecht, throwing his past in his face isn’t likely to keep her paycheck coming. She asks if it’s really in the past, and says, it better be, for Maxie’s sake, calling him Henrik. She says she’ll be across the world, but she’ll be watching him. He asks if that’s supposed to scare him, and she says, it should. If he even once considers letting Maxie see who he really is, she won’t just expose him. She’ll make sure he loses everything.

Valentin tells Nina, once she learned he gave Peter to Faison, she said using a child for revenge crossed the line. She made it very clear, and he felt awful. He’d regretted it the moment he did it. That’s why he entered Faison’s world, so he could watch Peter. He hated it. He’s not trying to diminish what he did, but when she left, it was like she was reliving the pain of losing her own child. He was now the focus of her personal anger. He’s a fixer. He solves problems, and it was a problem he could solve. He could see there was a seven month window between her going into a coma and going to the hospital. He pushed Madeline, and she admitted Nina had a baby girl that was given up for adoption. She asks why he didn’t tell her truth. Then they could have looked together. All of this would have been so different.

Diane tells Jason, up until now, she thought this was nonsense. A couple of Dawnies blaming Sam for the death of their idol. He says, now it’s a different story, and she says, Sam has a list of priors a mile long, some of them Federal crimes. He says, there’s no evidence, and she says, of prior intent, not really, but Shiloh was shot in the back and fell overboard. Sam’s prints are all over the flare gun, and there’s only their word that Jason was in imminent danger and Shiloh wasn’t pushed. He says, that’s not what happened, and she says she knows that, but he’s also a suspect in multiple Federal crimes. He pleaded nolo contrendere, and it’s on record. He agreed to a conviction. He says that was only to get into prison so he could protect Michael, but she asks if he thinks they care. In the eyes of the law, he’s guilty. He says, so she’s telling that the Feds are going after Sam because of him?

Carly arrives at the cemetery, and says she thought she’d find Sonny there. He says, sorry. He knows he was supposed to pick her up, but lost track of time. Carly asks if she told Morgan about his baby sister, and he says he was getting to that. He was telling Morgan how much he misses him. She says, her too.

Jax meets Hayden at the MetroCourt, and apologizes for being late. She says she was catching up on the news. Was Nina’s wedding as horrible as it sounded? He says he wouldn’t know. When he got there, the bride was fleeing the church. Hayden says, yikes. She wonders if Valentin could be thrown in jail before he can leave. He could decide to grab Charlotte and the Cassadine fortune, and disappear. Jax says, or he could be so distracted, he won’t see them coming. She likes his scenario better, and he suggests they focus on the task at hand right now. She says, it’s of the utmost urgency, and he guesses the reason is Finn.

Alexis says, Hayden talks to her dog on the phone? Finn says the dog is named Honeybun, but Alexis thinks that’s kind of saccharin sweet for Hayden. He says, then there was the whole thing with Aiden. She asks if he means Elizabeth’s son, and he says he saw Hayden with a finger painting. She told him that Aiden made it, but when he mentioned it, Aiden didn’t know what he was talking. She says he thinks Hayden is lying about a dog and a finger painting? He doesn’t know, but in some twisted way, he wants her to be lying. Maybe he’s looking for subterfuge where there isn’t any. She asks why, and he says, it’s just a feeling, but maybe Hayden has been lying to him all along, and now that she’s back, brought the truth. Alexis says she’s trying, but she’s not following him. He says, what if Hayden never miscarried? What if she had the baby?

Valentin tells Nina that she has no idea how many times he’s asked himself that question. Why didn’t he come to her with the information. All he can say is, she was so angry, and obviously Madeline was manipulating him to get to her. He needed to be certain, so he exhausted every avenue to find her child, but hit a dead end. His grand plan to win her back was a failure. Maybe he should have left it there. Nina asks what he means. What did he do?

Finn says it’s probably crazy thinking like that, but Alexis says, not necessarily. It wouldn’t be the first time a child was kept from a parent. He wonders how Hayden could do that, knowing how much he loved her. He had to learn the hard way that lying is sometimes how Hayden deals with things. Alexis says, has he thought of asking her? He wonders if he should just call and ask how come she had their have child and didn’t tell him, and Alexis says, not those words. He says he’ll sound crazy or paranoid, like he’s hanging on to something they used to have, and that’s not him. It took a long time for him to move on. Alexis knows he has, but what if he’s right? Then what?

Hayden tells Jax that Finn heard her calling their daughter honeybun, so she had to make up a story. She shows him a picture on her phone, and asks if it looks real. He can’t believe she’s using her time to doctor a photo with an image of a dog. She says, it’s not that hard, and he says, apparently lying isn’t either.

Peter says Obrecht can’t stand him. Why would she want him with Maxie? She says if she had her way, he’d stay as far from Maxie as possible, but it’s about what Maxie wants. Maxie loves him, and he makes her happy. Maxie has lost enough. That’s something she’s learned; bad people can make good people happy, as long as they keep their façade in place. If he can do that, she has no problem. He thanks her for not interfering, and she says it’s a gift to her late son. Above all, Nathan would want Maxie’s happiness, so happiness she shall have.

Jason asks what Diane’s plan is. She says their best option is to try the facts. It was self-defense on Sam’s part, and the prosecution doesn’t have much to go on. The word of a convicted felon. Shiloh isn’t going to help their case being leader of a cult nightmare. He murdered Douglas Miller, and kidnapped Sam. Jason asks what about the recording and the nurse? She says, pure hearsay, and while they can’t prove the tape was doctored, the state can’t prove it wasn’t. She’s going not petition the judge, tell him that Sam is in jeopardy in Pentenville, and she should be remanded to the county lockup pending her trial. He asks how long it will take, and she tells him she’ll work some magic, but it’s not going to happen tonight.

Carly tells Sonny, October is a big month; Morgan was born and died. Sonny says, and Morgan loved Halloween. Carly says, he was the last of the kids to stop trick-or-treating. Sonny says, he loved the candy, but she says, he loved the experience. He says, Morgan was like that about a lot of things, and she says, he sure was. Sonny says, next year, Donna will be old enough, and Carly thinks she’d make the cutest pumpkin. She won’t be old enough to understand, but when she is, they’ll tell her all about Morgan.

Josslyn comes back to the kitchen, and says she’s sorry. Dev says he’s sorry he upset her, and she says he stormed out like a toddler in a tantrum. It was unfair. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, no. She misses her brother, and she misses Oscar, but she doesn’t want to be that person who takes out her pain on her friends. They’re awesome, and she’s lucky to have them. Is she forgiven? Trina says, there’s nothing to forgive, but they are awesome. Dev asks if Trina has always been like this. Cameron and Josslyn say, yeah.

Valentin tells Nina that he got drunk. He drank a lot, but couldn’t drink it away. He couldn’t get it out of his head. He checked the evidence, over and over again, in his head. He was prepared to tell her, and went to her once, but he didn’t go through with it. She asks him, why? and he says he could never fail her. He’d be failing them. So he turned to Curtis, who found the lawyer who facilitated Madeline’s adoption. He came back with a name – Sasha Gilmore, her daughter. Or so he thought. Here’s my thought. Did anyone ever actually look at a real DNA test for Sasha? I keep thinking/hoping that she really is Nina’s daughter.

Valentin says he didn’t realize he’d given the lawyer a perfect opening; a trail of breadcrumbs to Sasha. At the time, he thought she was the answer to his prayers. When he met her, nothing seemed wrong or off, but he never met the lawyer. He doesn’t know how he manipulated Sasha to do what she did. He believes the lawyer’s intent was malicious, but he doesn’t believe Sasha’s was. She was a good person, maybe down on her luck, following the opportunity presented to her by a bad person. He’s so sorry. Nina asks, why? He didn’t do anything wrong. He says he had a million chances to stop it, and he didn’t. He’ll never forgive himself for that. Nina’s heart is broken, but he can protect Charlotte from this. There’s nothing to undo what he’s done to her, and he’ll always regret that. All he ever wanted to do was love her. He cries, and tries to take her hand. He says, always, and picks up a suitcase. Nina says, about his part in this? She believes him.

Alexis tells Finn, it would change a lot of things. His world will be upside down. She asks what she can do to help, and he says nothing beyond what she’s doing; being a friend. She thinks he should talk to Anna. For something significant like this, she should come back to help. He says, she’s on a mission, and it’s important. She says, he’s important, and if it’s possible he’s a father, he needs to find out.

Hayden tells Jax, it’s none his business what she does. He tells her lie if she wants, but as a father, he thinks what she’s doing, hiding Finn’s child from him, is not okay. She says Finn is none the wiser, and he says she’s already robbed him of years with his child, and she’s robbing herself too. Doesn’t she miss her daughter? She says, of course (🍷), and he says those are years she won’t get back, and neither will Finn because of her choices.

Diane tells Jason to breathe. Jason says, Sam is going to prison because of him. She says, that might be the motive, but the Feds are doing this because of what Sam has done. He’s not solely responsible. When he and Sonny chose a life outside of the law, they knew it could come back to bite them. Sam made the same choice. He asks if she’s saying Sam deserves it, and she says, no, but she can only help if they understand the reality that their up against. He says there’s no one better than her, and he needs her to be the best she’s ever been – for Sam. She says she will be. Sam is walked back in, and Diane says she’ll give them privacy.

Sam says, it’s really bad, isn’t it? and Jason says, it’s pretty bad. There are still some good options, but they have to stop thinking that there’s a quick fix and it will be over soon. It could take a while. She says she can handle it. She knows he can too, but what about the kids? He holds her. I’m seriously confused. Why is no one acting like their normal pragmatic selves? And why isn’t he saying anything about Henderson being the guy that stabbed Andre? I would think that would make Henderson a lot less credible. It’s annoying the hell out of me.

Valentin says, Nina believes him? and she says, yes. He says, good; he’s glad. He starts to leave, and she tells him, hold on. She gets it. She hates how it ended, but she was on the verge of being the happiest she’s ever been in her life. He screwed up, but he was lied to as much as she was. It’s on Sasha and the lawyer, and probably her mother. It’s their fault, not his. He asks what she’s saying, and she says, the only thing that makes finding out Sasha isn’t really her daughter worse is if she lost him and Charlotte. So she forgives him. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, don’t go to Greece. Please. She loves him too. He drops his bag, and kisses her.

Finn calls Anna. He says he knows they talked this morning, but he needs to see her in person. He hates to ask, but he needs her to come home.

Jax tells Hayden, it’s not a profit and loss column; it’s real life. She’s making decisions for two people who are in the dark. She says Finn doesn’t know what he’s missing, but Jax says, he’s a smart guy. Doesn’t she think he’ll figure it out? She says she does. That’s why they need to wrap this up before it happens.

Peter asks if Obrecht is really going to leave without talking to Maxie. She says, it will be easier this way. Her phone rings. It’s Valentin, who says, forget leaving town, and she says why would she do that. He says, Nina believes Sasha acted alone. They’re in the clear for now. She says, excellent to hear, and thanks him. Peter says, good news? and she says, only the very best.

Josslyn tells Carly, welcome home. Sonny says, they’re carving already? and Josslyn says, Avery is excited. She’ll carve a new one for Halloween. Avery loves the holiday, like Morgan did. Carly says they were talking about that, and Sonny thanks her for putting the flowers on Morgan’s grave. Josslyn says she’s been missing him a lot today. Carly says they all are. Morgan would be happy. Not just because of the holiday and his baby sister, but that they’re happy, and all still together.

Jason tells Sam, it will be okay. Danny and Scout are at the Quartermaine’s. He’ll see them, and find a way to explain. The guard says, it’s time, and she asks Jason to tell them she loves them. Make sure they know, and tell them she’s not scared. Jason repeats, it will be okay. She says she loves him, and he says he loves her too. The guard takes her, and Jason and Diane look sad.

Tomorrow, Alexis says there she is, Nina wonders why Valentin wouldn’t want to see Sasha punished, and Nelle tells Michael it’s time he knew the truth.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

Tamra tells Vicki, you can’t pull a train without penises. Vicki doesn’t think Kelly is going to find it funny. Tamara thinks Kelly is over it, but can yell at her if she wants. In Tamra’s interview, she thinks if they’re going on a train, they should make fun of it. We flash back to the endless train discussion. I decide I’d rather walk on broken glass than hear all this again. Tamra says it might be too soon, but thinks they should make fun. Vicki sees all the penis party favors, and says, it’s not a bachelorette party. Tamra says they’re pulling a train. If this was a drinking game, we’d be drunk already. She tells Vicki that Gina is pissed off at Emily. She set Gina up with a guy who had a girlfriend, and Gina is ex-ing her out. Emily’s been texting, but Gina isn’t responding. In Tamra’s interview, she says, Emily is a difficult person to understand. Why set Gina up with a guy who has a girlfriend when Gina’s husband had a girlfriend?

Meghan arrives at the meeting place for Shannon’s party. Emily is there already, and introduces herself. Meghan says she doesn’t know Emily, but feels like something is wrong. Emily says she has good intuition. In Emily’s interview, she says there’s been zero communication between her and Gina. It’s going to be awkward. The others trickle in. Shannon is excited to see Meghan. In her interview, she says she misses Meghan. That girl can drink cocktails. She can’t believe Meghan is the only one dressed up. Meghan is dressed like a conductor/dominatrix, so I’m not sure what’s going on with that. Megan tells them Jim is… somewhere. I tuned out for a moment because he’s a jerk and I don’t like him. Kelly joins them. In Kelly’s interview, she says she and Meghan have had a few rough patches – we flash back to that – but she doesn’t hold grudges. Vicki and Tamra are next to get there. Tamra asks if Shannon feels older. Braunwyn arrives with Gina, and says she knows how much Shannon likes a good theme. She gives Shannon a conductor’s hat. Tamra announces they can’t pull s train without sex toys, and takes out a vodka filled penis flask. The women all hold up a sign that says hot mess express, and take a picture. The real train to San Diego is ready to roll, and they do a shot. Vicki insists she has to not go backward. In Kelly’s interview, she says, the train rumor was absurd. She has to laugh and make it a joke. She’d be lucky if eight guys liked her at once. Kelly points out the traffic, and says they should be glad they’re not in it. There’s a lot of BJ talk, and in her interview, Braunwyn says she hates it. She hasn’t given one since ‘97, unless it’s for a nice handbag. Priorities.

Kelly says she has a little dilemma. Brian was supposed to call her after surgery, and when she called him, he was at a bar. He said he’d had a bad day. Kelly thinks it’s weird that he didn’t check in. She doesn’t expect him to call every minute, but it’s a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. She asks if she’s being weird. Vicki thinks checking in is part of a committed relationship. In her interview, Gina says, single Kelly is very different than committed Kelly. She tells him then Brian called her insecure. In her interview, she says he should be saying he’s sorry, he loves her, and knows how important it is to her, and if he thinks she’s insecure, make her feel secure. Tamra asks Gina how her train is. Shannon asks if Gina is rescheduling the date. Gina says she got stood up; it’s fine. Everyone gets quiet.

The actual conductor asks how going. In her interview, Shannon says, Del Mar is part of where fun Shannon was raised. She and a girlfriend used to down a bottle of Andre champagne and go to the parties. Vicki asks if they’re eating tonight, since everyone is already working on tomorrow’s hangover. Shannon says she wants a birthday kiss, and Vicki says Tamra will kiss her. They reach their first stop, the Poseidon restaurant, where they’re getting cocktails. Like they need more of them.

Kelly and Vicki sit next to each other, and Tamra can’t believe it. In Kelly’s interview, she tells us, Vicki has said the most atrocious things, but everything is copacetic. She’s not forgetting, but trying to forgive because she knows it’s the right thing to do. Tamra tells the waitress that they’re celebrating a birthday and need bubbles. Shannon blows a whistle. They order drinks and appetizers, and Vicki wonders what going on with Gina’s date. Gina wonders how Vicki knows about it. Kelly calls to Emily at the other end of the table, and in Emily’s interview, she says it’s obvious Gina has had conversations with other people that have to do with her. Kelly’s whole I-tell-it-like-it-is, I’m direct thing is bullsh*t. They toast, and Shannon says if she sees someone handsome that she thinks is for her or Gina, she’ll blow the whistle. She looks around, and says, no one is whistle worthy. Vicki pumps Gina for more information, and the non-date is discussed. Tired of hearing it, Emily goes to the bathroom. Meghan follows her. In the bathroom, Emily tells Meghan that she knew Gina would run her mouth. She’s been texting for two days, and there’s been no response, but Gina will tell everyone else. She doesn’t even know why Gina is mad. At the table, Gina says, you should know enough about someone before setting them up. Emily tells Meghan that Gina acts like she murdered someone. She set them up, but they never went out. Braunwyn comes in, and asks Emily to come back, but Emily doesn’t want to. Braunwyn tells Gina that Emily is upset about the situation. Shannon suggests everyone stay out of bathroom. Braunwyn thinks Gina should just talk to Emily. Gina gets up, and says, her worst nightmare. Emily tells Meghan that she tried to do something nice, but it didn’t work out. No harm, no harm foul. It’s not like Gina was emotionally invested and then found out. Gina blows in, and says Emily just met Meghan. She’d never bring a stranger into her business. Emily says Gina didn’t want to talk to her. In Gina’s interview, she says, who TF is Meghan? She and Emily just met, and Emily is going to spill her guts to Meghan in the bathroom? Emily says she called three days in a row, and Gina says she was pissed at Emily. Emily says she’s pissed. She walks out, and says she wants to get a car and go home. In the bathroom, Gina tells Meghan that she can only be a friend as much as she can. She’s allowed to be offended. Emily thinks Gina is abandoning her because she has abandonment issues. Now who’s spilling their guts? Emily sits outside.

Ugh. It’s getting to the point where the NYC and Dallas Wives are the only ones I can tolerate. Maybe it’s time to retire this franchise. Where are the Melbourne Wives when I need them? At least the country was interesting.

Gina goes outside, and tells Emily that she’s allowed to be mad. Back at the table, Kelly says she’s going to the ladies room. Shannon tells her to get them out of the bathroom. This is ridiculous. She blows her whistle. In Kelly’s interview, she says, nothing good comes out of bathroom. Ask Shannon. We flash back to the scene at The Quiet Woman. Kelly finds Emily, and says she thought they were having a meeting in the ladies room. Emily tells her, be careful. She wants to fight someone. Gina should pick up the phone and tell her if she’s mad. Don’t tell everyone else. Kelly gets Gina, and tells her to talk to Emily. Gina tells Emily she was hurt, and Emily says, then pick up the phone. Gina says she wasn’t ready. Inside, Shannon wonders what to do to get the party started. Gina asks Emily what she thought would happen if she set Gina up with someone who had a girlfriend. Emily says she’s never met a girlfriend; what’s her name? Gina says she doesn’t know, and Emily says she doesn’t either. Shannon wants to go, saying, it’s her party. Gina tells Emily, this is what Shane wanted, but Emily says Shane didn’t know the cousin that well. Gina says, why set her up then? In Emily’s interview, she says Shane didn’t grow up with his cousin, and just got to know him recently. He and Gina met at a party a while back, and hit it off, so she thought it would be fun if they all went out. Every time Emily saw the cousin, he was by himself. She tells Gina that she’d never do anything on purpose to hurt her. Gina says Emily should know her better, and Emily guesses she doesn’t know Gina. Gina says if Emily doesn’t know her, don’t set her up on a date with someone who has a girlfriend. This is bullsh*t. She’s done.

Gina tells Shannon that Emily doesn’t know her, and apparently, she’s a terrible person. Shannon says there’s always a problem with Emily, and Gina says, she’s probably sitting in front of the restaurant, screaming at people coming in. Meghan feels badly, and Gina says she feels terrible. Outside, Tamra tells Emily that she thinks Gina built up resentment against her, and Emily says Gina gets pissed over petty bullsh*t, and she doesn’t have time for it. Tamra tells her, then stand up for herself. Go back in with her head held high. In Emily’s interview, she says she doesn’t know what happened with their friendship. Maybe they weren’t meant to be friends. Gina tells Shannon, she’s sorry this happened on her birthday. Emily comes back and sits down. Braunwyn says, her daughter Rowan is having a fashion show for OC fashion week, and she’d like them to come. We flash back to Braunwyn explaining to Shannon that Rowan has OCD bad. Shannon says her daughter Adeline is modeling in it. We see a clip of Shannon encouraging her girls to have a sport, and Adeline saying, modeling is her sport. Shannon can’t wait. Braunwyn says she’d love it if any of them who are free could be there. Shannon wants to move on to a little spot in Del Mar, and says, let the train continue. Gina takes selfies in the taxi with Tamra.

At Sbicca, Shannon warns the staff that their table might be loud. Tamra yells if there are any single guys. Shannon tells the waiter they need shots. They need to get this party started. Shannon says she just wants a kiss on her birthday. In Kelly’s interview, she says, Shannon is full of sh*t. She went to Brian’s office and got the O shot. Shannon says she doesn’t have a vagina obsession like Tamra does. They take another shot, and Shannon says, fifty-five is going to rock. Kelly says, AARP, and they all laugh. They order food, and Tamra asks again if there are any single guys. In her interview, Tamra says Shannon told her specifically that she wanted to meet a guy on her birthday. They call her the expediter. Having no luck in the restaurant, Tamra goes into the kitchen, and says, Shannon is looking to get laid. She comes back to the table, and says, everybody is married. I’m guessing if they’re not, they’re still saying they are. Tamra tells Braunwyn that they’re going to make out, and licks Gina’s face. Shannon tells Vicki what happened in the kitchen. Braunwyn says, no guys are attractive anymore. Gina looks uncomfortable sitting in between Braunwyn and Tamra. In Gina’s interview, she says she feels like she just met Braunwyn, and it’s like, hi, how are you doing? I have threesomes with my husband. Braunwyn and Tamra fist bump, and Shannon blows her whistle. Gina does the same. Emily tells Gina that she loves her. She swears on her children’s lives that she’d never put Gina in a situation that would hurt or embarrass her. Gina says she believes it. Braunwyn sits on Tamra’s lap. Vicki tells them, stop it. Emily tells Gina, when Gina doesn’t talk to her, it hurts. Tamra and Shannon kiss, and Shannon says, no tongue. In Shannon’s interview, she says she’ll kiss a girl dry, but if any moisture comes in, she’s out. Kelly says if they buy her something, she’ll be sexual. Emily explains that Shane didn’t grow up with his cousin because of some falling out in the family. He only just recently started talking to him. Gina says she gets it. Braunwyn announces that she likes women’s lips, and kisses Tamra. Shannon screams. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says, Eddie is a lucky man. In Vicki’s interview, she says she doesn’t know why this is happening. She knows girls kiss girls, but they’re not lesbians, so how are they doing this, and why are they enjoying it? Are they cheating? They get a thumbs up from one of the other patrons. Braunwyn and Tamra keep kissing. Emily tells Gina that she loves her, and it breaks her heart. Gina knows that Emily would never do anything intentionally to hurt her. They hug. In Gina’s interview, she says she knows Emily cares about her and loves her. It’s a character flaw, and makes it difficult. If you have something and damage it, if it doesn’t heal correctly, it’s vulnerable. Vicki says, everyone, go back to your own chairs. In Kelly’s interview, she says she’s been around Vicki long enough to know the chick can be a two-bit hooker. Now she has a cop in her life, and she’s holier than thou? Shannon says she doesn’t want any snatch. Vicki asks if Tamra and Braunwyn are done, but Tamra says they’re just getting started. Tamra sits back down, and almost misses the chair.

The food comes, and Braunwyn tells the waiter that she and Tamra are dating. In Tamra’s interview, she says she married a younger guy for a reason. Nothing is wrong with a threesome once in a while. Tamra asks, what a-hole got fried chicken? and Shannon says Tamra’s girlfriend. Tamra says she thought of Braunwyn when she and Eddie had sex. Braunwyn says that’s her thing when she closes her eyes. She imagines another girl is there. Shannon asks what the other girl is doing, and Braunwyn says, reading Shakespeare. Tamra falls off her chair, and Kelly starts filming. Vicki tries to help Tamra up, and also ends up on the floor. Shannon tells them to get up; they’re making fools of themselves. At this point, pretty much everyone in the restaurant is noticing. Some are laughing, and some, not so much. Gina blows her whistle. Emily says, happy birthday, Shannon. In Gina’s interview, she says when she’s fifty-five, she won’t be rolling on the floor in a restaurant. Mark her words. Except it isn’t Shannon rolling around, so that makes no sense. Does she not know their names? TBH, I think Gina is a little stupid, and is actually the one with the character flaw. She’s known Emily how long, and immediately thought Emily set her up with a dude that had a girlfriend on purpose? Then like a big baby, she refuses to talk. I would never say no wonder she had relationship problems, but I just did. Tamra and Vicki manage to get back in their chairs, and there’s applause. The birthday cake comes, and everyone sings the usual. Shannon tells the women that birthdays aren’t a good day for her, and she didn’t want to celebrate, but Tamra insisted. Now, her stomach hurts from laughing so much. She’s grateful, and appreciates them. They applaud, and in Tamra’s interview, she says she loves Shannon. They’ve had their ups and downs, and it’s nice to finally see her in a place where she’s happy. Shannon says she’s going next door where the single people are. Tamra says, lead the train. On the way over, Braunwyn says she had no idea that her laughter was annoying.

They head to Jimmy O’s next door, and immediately hit the dance floor. Kelly offers a guy $200 to pick up Shannon. In her interview, she says, aren’t they there to find Shannon a dude? One of the bouncers says, the white dress girl is fine, meaning Kelly. Vicki says Braunwyn bugs the sh*t out of her. In Vicki’s interview, she says, Braunwyn always has to be the center of attention, and it’s annoying. She’s tired of watching it. She tells Shannon that she’s going home. Braunwyn is dancing like a twelve-year-old. Kelly dirty dances with the bouncer, who throws her over his shoulder. Gina encourages a guy to introduce himself to Shannon, and he tells Shannon that his name is Marcos. He grabs her, and they’re sort of dancing. Shannon says he’s a little forward, and Tamra tells him, it’s Shannon’s birthday. He says he heard, and kisses her, but it looks like a soap opera kiss where their mouths aren’t really meeting. In Shannon’s interview, she says, wow, but I’m thinking this looks like it was set up. Braunwyn finds Tamra hot, and is all over her. In Emily’s interview, she says she feels like she’s in Amsterdam. Are animals next? Is there a donkey somewhere? In Kelly’s interview, she finds it bizarre that she’s the one with the rumors. Look at them. Emily says, time to go home, and Braunwyn says she’s so drunk.

At Kelly’s, Brian looks at a ginormous blinged-out bottle opener, and calls it the Liberace of bottle openers. He wonders if you could cut off someone’s head with it. They sit with some wine, and he asks about the party. He says she sent some video of girls rolling around on the floor. He says when she came back, she seemed pissed off. He didn’t appreciate how him not calling affected her. All did not was, not call right away after work. She says, it was six hours. He checks out, and she doesn’t like it. That’s what having a girlfriend is about. Brian says sometimes the clinic can be overwhelming, and in those moments, he needs down time. Kelly says he doesn’t have to be a jerk about it, and he says he tries not to be. It was a tough day, and he wasn’t sure she wanted to keep trying. She says, when you introduce the kids, you can’t just break up. He says he didn’t appreciate her telling him that he didn’t know how to parent after she bought his son a PlayStation 4. He would have preferred she ask him first. It’s a big gift, and he wants his son to appreciate how thoughtful it is. She hadn’t told him Jolie went to camp on a private jet. She says a lot of her friends have private jets. In her interview, she says, Brian isn’t forking over the cash. If she wants to give her daughter a camp experience in London that she feels is educational, that’s her business. She asks if he thinks Jolie is spoiled, and he says he hasn’t spent enough time with her to know. Kelly says she has one child, and has the means to give Jolie opportunities she didn’t have. Brian says Kelly has to teach her to appreciate (his favorite word) those opportunities. That’s the key. In Kelly’s interview, she says she likes spoiling Jolie, but she’s also teaching her compassion. We see a clip of Kelly and Jolie working at the soup kitchen, and Jolie saying they’re blessed to lead the lives they do. Brian says their relationship has had hiccups that weren’t comfortable. Maybe it would have been easier if they’d been friends, but they’ve worked through it. He never had somebody who wanted to hear from him so much. He appreciates (what did I say?) the love she gives him. He can’t promise it won’t happen again, but he’ll be aware, and try to call and tell her. She says she was dancing with a bouncer, and he asks if she used her best moves. She says she did, and he asks if she gave him her phone number. She says, no, and he says, good girl. She says he looks at boobs all day. Does he ever think of motorboating them? He says, no; he doesn’t.

Next time, Rowan’s fashion show, Tamra says Ryan is treading water, Dr. Deb gets disrespected, and Braunwyn has a tirade on the way home.

General Hospital

I missed the very beginning, and already the week is off to a great start. Once again, I swear I had extra time, and then I didn’t. The main takeaway points, as I listened in, were: Julian goes to see Franco at Shadybrook, and Kim asks Elizabeth if she really thinks she’s doing the right thing.

Maxie is surprised to find Nina at Crimson, and says she was worried about her. Nina tells her not to worry. She was with a friend last night. Seeing the bottle from Ava, Maxie says, her drinking buddy? but Nina says, no; someone else. Maxie says, talk to her, and Nina says she was with Jax. He was there when she needed someone to listen to her, and gave her a comforting shoulder to cry on. End of story. Maxie wishes Nina had come to her. She loves Nina. Nina says she loves Maxie too, but she needed a neutral space. Maxie asks if she’s okay, and Nina says she’s trying to be. Maxie says that’s all she can do; fake it until she makes it. Nina doesn’t know if she can do that. Her heart is demolished, and she’s devastated. She’s mad at Valentin and Sasha, but especially herself. She opened her heart to a fake daughter, and let Valentin back in her life. Maxie says she’s so sorry. She doesn’t have to see Valentin again. She and Peter can go pick up her stuff. Nina says she already went there. Valentin swears he had nothing to do with it. Maxie says, he’s doing what all liars do – deny, deny, deny. Nina doesn’t believe him, right?

Valentin says he’s traveling light. They can buy things they need when they get there. Obrecht asks if Nina’s child is alive, and Valentin asks what it matters. She says, it’s her family, and he says, according to Madeline, Nina never miscarried. She was in a coma, but didn’t lose the baby. Madeline paid a private nurse, and once the child was born, made arrangements for an adoption. He exhausted every available option trying to track Nina’s child down, and came up with nothing. He can’t prove the child is alive, or even exists.

Franco tells Julian, this is awkward. Normally, if he was in this position with another guy, he’d buy them a beer, but there’s nothing there except apple juice and checkers. Julian says he’s not there for a heart to heart. If Franco wasn’t in the funny farm, he’d lay him out. Franco says he can’t take back what happened, and he’s not entirely sure he’d want to. He does regret Julian got hurt. Julian says, regret doesn’t mean a damn thing. Franco asks what he wants. He agrees these are extraordinary circumstances. Julian says Franco might think Kim is the love of his life, but the love story he’s got going on in his head is a fantasy. He barely knew her, and he doesn’t know her now. Thank you. I kept saying the way Kim and pseudo Drew talk, you’d think they’d been together for years when it was only a couple of months.

Elizabeth tells Kim that she had her husband committed because he’s not well, and can’t protect himself. Kim says, Drew isn’t mentally ill, and has the right to make his own medical decisions. Elizabeth says, his name is Franco, and the fact that Kim cant tell the difference speaks volumes. She and Kim used to be friends. She doesn’t think Kim would have slept with Franco if she hadn’t been in pain, and she has enough on her plate right now. Franco hired a shark lawyer who is going to exploit him, and make a name for himself. Kim says she’s the one who put Franco in touch with Martin Gray, but that’s not why he’s on the case. Well, it didn’t sound like it was out of the goodness of his heart.

Sonny tells Sam and Jason, the black box and instrument data confirm the pilot of Drew’s plane lost control, and it went into the water. Sam says she knew that from the WSB, but was hoping they’d find something else. Sonny says, if the cause had been any different, they would have found it. It happened the way they said it did. Sam asks, what else happened? and he says they’re officially declaring Drew deceased. Carly says she’s so sorry. Sam says it’s nothing she didn’t already know, but this makes it final now.

Edward tells Jordan that he’ll take it from there, but she says his jurisdiction is over Shiloh’s death, not his escape. She tells Henderson that if he has any hope of saving himself, lose the attitude, and start talking. A woman walks in and says, her client has nothing more to say.

Nina tells Maxie, Valentin swore he was just as deceived as she was, and that Sasha is a con artist who fooled them both. Maxie tells her, that’s not what Lulu said. Nina says Lulu also hates Valentin, and what she remembers might not exactly be what she overheard. Sasha never implicated anyone but herself. Maxie says, true. She never said Valentin hired her, but think about it. Obrecht was holding something over Valentin, and she and Peter thought it had something to do with Sasha. They turned out to be right that Sasha wasn’t Nina’s daughter. It make sense that Valentin was in on it, and Obrecht was blackmailing him. Nina says Valentin already told her what Obrecht was holding over him, and Maxie asks what it was. Nina says she’s not getting into that with her. She’s aware of what Obrecht was using as leverage, and it had nothing to do with Sasha. Maxie says Nina knows how good Valentin is at covering his tracks. He had WSB training. Just because there’s no evidence, doesn’t mean Valentin is innocent. Is Nina saying she thinks Valentin is telling the truth?

Obrecht says Valentin hit a dead end and gave up the search? He says he spent more on the search than most people see in a lifetime. Now he knows Madeline was using him to get to Nina, building her hopes up to watch them come crashing down. She asks if he confronted Madeline, and he says, by the time he realized, she was already dead. Obrecht says, what curious timing it was.

Andre meets Peter at Charlie’s, and Peter asks how Andre is feeling. Andre says he’s good, but surprised Peter asked to meet with him. Peter was there supervising during the original memory transfer between Jason and Drew. It’s not a time either one of them is proud of, so he doesn’t know what they have to talk about. Peter says he wasn’t planning on rehashing it, but since Andre brought the situation up, he wants to clarify that he was coerced by his father. He did what he could to mitigate the damage. He asked Andre to meet him because his mother is Andre’s close friend. He was hoping Andre heard from her. He asks if Andre has any idea when she’s coming back, but Andre says he’s not privy to Bureau information or updates on their agents. Andre laughs, and Peter asks if he finds it amusing. Andre says Peter is referring to Anna as his mother. It’s real progress. Peter says he owes Andre his thanks for supporting Anna while they were working through things. Andre says he’s sure she’d do the same for him. Peter says it can’t hurt for them to know each other better. Is Andre staying in Port Charles for a while? Andre says he’s staying until Franco’s medical hearing is completed, so yes. Peter says, if the court rules in Elizabeth’s favor, how does he see it playing out? Can he make Franco into Franco again?

In the hallway, Sam starts to cry, and Jason tells her, it’s okay; take a minute. Sam says she was holding onto hope that Drew would find his way back for Scout. Jason is sure he tried, and Sam says she’s sorry it’s hitting her so hard now. Jason gets it. She and Drew were married, and he’s Scout’s father. Sam says, Drew was a really good man. He was good to her, and a good father to Scout. She guesses Drew is with Oscar now. Scout lost her brother to cancer, and her father to a freak storm. Jason says, if that’s what happened.

Jordan says she saw no attorney on record. The woman says, here she is, and tells them her name is Roz. Introductions are made, and Roz tells Henderson that she’s sorry she took so long to respond. Now that the introductions are over, she needs them to leave so she can confer with her client. Jordan says he’s all hers, and they leave. Henderson says he takes it she was sent by… She interrupts saying, no names. All she needs to know is what he already told them. He says, only what their friend asked him to. That Sam told him to pose as a guard, and help Shiloh escape. She says, good. Now they need to get the rest of his story straight.

Franco says Julian has lost touch with reality, and Julian tells him, says the man who claims he’s Drew in another body. He’s known Kim for two years, and Drew knew her for a couple of months before he was deployed – ages ago. Franco says Julian’s got guts, talking to his face like that. Julian says Kim was starting to come into her own. He doesn’t know the woman who sacrificed everything to raise her son. The woman who watched her only child die a slow death. She deserves better than to have him drag her into a past that never was. Franco says he gets it. Julian is hoping he and Kim will get back together.

Elizabeth says Kim is the one, and Kim says, Drew needed legal representation to get agency over his medical care. Elizabeth says she’s sure it’s costing a fortune. She was wondering how he was paying for it. Kim is bankrolling him. Kim says, he has the right to make his own medical decisions, and Elizabeth says she remembers Kim denying Oscar’s right to make them.

Andre tells Peter, that’s the question of moment, especially with Franco’s medical hearing coming up. Peter says it’s a risky procedure that’s never been done. Andrew says he’ll do his best, but in the absence of any date or case studies, it’s impossible to determine if it would succeed. Peter says he already did it with Drew and Jason. How different can it be? Andre says that was a memory transfer, not restoration. Franco has no baseline imprint. He’d have to wipe out Drew’s memories, and hope Franco’s memories remain intact. Peter says, what if Franco ends up with both sets of memories? and Andre says, that’s an excellent question. It might depend on which personally stronger, but he can’t say which one would prevail.

Jordan, Chase, and Edward go back into the interrogation room. Roz says Henderson is prepared to give full disclosure, as long as there’s a deal on the table. Jordan says she’d have to hear details before a deal is offered. Henderson says Sam reached out, saying there was a job she wanted done. Jordan asks how Sam found him, and he says, she’s a P.I., and knows her way around the back channels. She said she had a score to settle, and wanted to make sure Shiloh never found his way back to his cell. When he heard she’d killed the guy, he connected the dots. Sam wanted Shiloh free so she could take him out. Edward says if he’ll testify, they’ll discuss terms, and tells Chase to take Henderson back to his cell. Outside the room, Jordan tells Edward that Henderson’s story is full of holes. They don’t know if he and Sam ever met, or if any money changed hands until he was offered a deal for his fabricated story. Edward says Shiloh was shot in the back at close range, and Sam claimed she was defending Jason, but Jordan asks if he doesn’t think there should be further investigation.

Sam tells Jason, the weather was bad, but he says it was the same night Andre was attacked and almost killed. Sam says, it sounds strange, but it could be a terrible coincidence. Her phone rings, and it’s Jordan. She tells Sam that she needs to get back to the station for more questions, and she needs to get there right away.

Sonny asks if Carly is okay. Carly says, as much as she can be. Poor Drew. They were close for a while. It was weird when Jason came back, but she hopes he knew how much they cared about him. Sonny says he knew; they settled that. Carly says, Scout already lost a brother. Now she’s going to grow up without a father. She won’t even remember him. Sonny says she has Sam, Jason, Danny, the Quartermaines, and them to help. Carly says she loved how they pulled together for Wiley. Maybe they can do the same for Scout. Sonny says, and Donna. Carly wants to hold Donna, and asks Sonny to go see if she’s awake.

Valentin tells Obrecht that he was ready to drop it entirely, and Nina would have been none the wiser, but Madeline sent clues from beyond the grave. If Nina had started to search, she would have been crushed learning there was nothing to find. Obrecht says, so he found her long lost child. He says he found a charming suitable daughter, who had a giving heart. She says he gave Nina an imposter. He says he had no way to find Nina’s daughter, and Sasha was perfect. He thought it would spare her more hurt than harm. Obrecht says she thought he was Oxford educated, and he says he was. She asks if he took any philosophy courses, and he says, quite a bit. She says, then he must be familiar with the old adage, just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.

Nina tells Maxie, no doubt she should call the cops impersonating her child, but that’s where it gets complex. Is it identity theft or fraud? Maxie thinks she should take another look at Valentin. Thank of all the times he’s lied. Even if it was with the noblest of intentions, he still did bad things. She’s been there herself, and understands where he’s coming from, but when you hurt someone you love, the only way to heal it is by owning your mistake. Nina says there’s so much Maxie doesn’t know, and Maxie says, even if Nina is right, she has the feeling in Nina’s heart she knows the truth.

At the station, Jason asks Jordan what this is about. She thanks Sam for coming, and says she’ll be with them in a moment. Jason wonders if they shouldn’t wait outside, but Sam wants to stay. She says the sooner they get it over with, the sooner they can get out. Chase walks Henderson past them, and Henderson and Jason stare at each other. Sam says, what is it?

Valentin asks Obrecht when she’s leaving, and she asks if he’s eager to get rid of her. He says, surprisingly, he’s not. He’s ambivalent. He’s grown to respect her Machiavellian principles, and her end justifies the means philosophy, and she loves Nina. She says she respects him too. She thinks, given time, Nina might have taken him back without the whole pretend daughter angle. He hedged his bets, and compromised them both in the process. Valentin says if Nina is doubting Obrecht’s involvement, she’s confirming it by leaving. Obrecht hopes Nina’s anger will cool in her absence. If she allows Nina to miss her, she might be more inclined to give her a second chance. He tells her, good luck. He means it. She tells him, good luck as well. She regrets to say, where Nina is concerned, he’s going to need it. They shake hands, and she leaves.

Peter asks Andre what the other potential outcomes are. Andre says, one is a win, and there are two other contingencies. It could reinforce Drew’s memories, and Franco will remember more clearly. Why does he get the feeling that Peter is pumping him for information. He’s not putting this in The Invader, is he? Peter says, no. He can’t forget that his father set all this in motion. If it weren’t for Faison, Drew would be a decorated Navy SEAL, and would have never been on the plane that went down; Franco wouldn’t be languishing in Shadybrook; and Jason wouldn’t have lost five years of his life. He wishes everything Faison did could be undone, and they could all get on with their lives. Andre drinks to that. Peter says he has another appointment, but tells Andre to have another drink on him. Andre says he’ll let Peter know if he hears anything about Anna, and Peter thanks him.

Julian tells Franco that he knows there’s no going back to what he and Kim had. Unlike Franco, he’s clear on that. Franco asks why he’s there, and Julian says he’s not there to plead his case. If anything, he’s there to plead Kim’s case. Franco says, by telling him that he doesn’t know the woman he loves? The mother of his child. Julian says, Kim lost her child, and she’s grieving so deeply, she doesn’t know what she’s doing. All he is, is a temporary fix for the hole in her heart. He claims to love her. If he does, stop enabling her to be frozen in the past, and preventing her from moving forward and truly healing. Julian says, the ball is in his court, and leaves.

Elizabeth tells Kim, she’s sorry. She shouldn’t have brought up Oscar in that way. Kim says, no, she shouldn’t, and Elizabeth says, no more than Kim should be meddling in her husband’s life. Km says, it’s his life, and Elizabeth says she wants to give Kim the benefit of the doubt, but this situation is completely different. Kim says she couldn’t allow her son to choose, and she was wrong. Thankfully, they patched things up, but it nearly destroyed their relationship. That’s how important it was. Maybe Elizabeth could learn from her story, and give her husband a chance to choose his own fate. She might not have a chance to patch things up before the end. Scotty summoned her, saying he was going to call her to the stand at the hearing. She assumes Elizabeth realizes her testimony isn’t going to help. Elizabeth says she doesn’t know, but if the other side is calling Kim to testify, maybe she should look inward to see if she’s healed enough to know what’s right or wrong.

Sam asks Jason, what’s going on? but he’s not sure. Too many things don’t add up. There are too many loose ends. She asks if he needs to follow up on something, but he says he’ll wait. She says Diane will be there soon. They probably just want to go over her statement for the millionth time. She’ll be fine. She tells him to go. She kisses him, and he leaves.

Andre’s phone rings. It’s Jason, who says he needs to see Andre right away.

Carly holds Donna, and says, hi, beautiful. She’s doing good and they’re proud of her. Sonny says, she’s a brave lady, like the first Donna. Carly tells Donna that she’s getting stronger every day, and they get to bring her home soon. There are so many people who want to meet her, and love her so much. Sonny laughs.

Jason goes to Charlies to meet Andre, who asks what he can do for Jason. Jason says there’s a suspect in police custody who he thought would interest Andre. He shows Andre a photo of Henderson on his phone, and asks if Andre recognizes him. Andre says, vaguely, and Jason shows him another photo with Henderson wearing a beard. He says, how about now? and Andre says that’s the man who stabbed him.

Edward comes out, and Sam says she told the Commissioner that she’s willing to cooperate. She just has to wait for her lawyer if they want to ask additional questions. He says, there seems to have been some confusion. He’s placing her under arrest. Jordan joins them, and asks Edward for a word. He says, it’s not necessary; this is his jurisdiction. It’s a federal prosecution. Sam says. it was self-defense, but he says they’ve received evidence to the contrary. He’s requesting that she be denied bail, and remain in Pentenville until the trial.

Julian runs into Elizabeth, and asks how it’s going. She says she’s hanging in. Him? He says, same. Her phone rings, and she says it’s Scotty.

Kim visits Franco, and he says he wasn’t expecting her. What’s going on? She says she just spoke to Martin, and he has news about the hearing. They have a date.

Elizabeth thanks Scotty. She tells Julian that Franco’s hearing is set to start next week.

Peter goes to the Crimson office, and asks if Maxie is ready for dinner. She says she got sidetracked trying to convince Nina that Valentin was involved with Sasha’s con. Nina is all tied up in knots because Valentin is saying he had nothing to do with it. Peter asks if Nina believes him, and Maxie says she doesn’t think Nina is convinced. She’s all for benefit of the doubt, but you have to see clearly first. She wishes Nina could see the liar staring her in the face.

Valentin makes arrangements to open the house in Greece. He tells them they know the drill, and to make sure Helena’s personal items are out of the room. He tells them not to lock the suite though. He doesn’t want Charlotte to think it’s a dark witch’s chamber, although that’s not far from the truth. He hangs up, and hears someone coming in. It’s Nina. They look at each other.

Tomorrow, Finn tells Alexis that he knows Hayden is lying, Nina needs to hear Valentin say it, and Diane says Sam is being transferred to Pentenville tonight.

Below Deck

Chef Kevin is having stomach issues, and keeps running to the toilet. He says, man down. The guests are on the beach with Tanner and Courtney. Tanner says he’d love to set up a hammock, but he likes to work. In Courtney’s interview, she says she needs money, but doesn’t like work in general. Kate asks Kevin if he wants things to go faster or slower, and he says, very slower. She says, awkward, and gives him some medicine. In his interview, he wonders if the pressure of the charter is making him feel sick, and it’s turning into a sh*t show. The guests return to the yacht. Kate walks Simone through what they’re doing that evening. She has a violinist arriving, dinner for two upstairs (the grand proposal dinner), and dinner for five downstairs. In her interview, Kate says if she wasn’t busy she’d be freaking out, but she’s busy. Kevin still has cramps, and in his interview, says it’s a challenge to begin with, cooking for two different tables. Now he’s dealing with stomach issues. This is pretty intense.

Ashton goes over what the deckhands have to do, and says then they can party. Michael asks Kate if she wants a sneak preview, and shows her the ring. No surprise, it’s fabulous. She asks if he practiced, and he says, a little bit. He’s not sure what knee is traditional, like that matters. In Kate’s interview, she says, Michael seems nervous, but he chartered a mega yacht to propose. He should be able to just throw the ring at her face and she’ll say yes. In Ashton’s interview, he says, even though it’s early on, he doesn’t feel like he needs to micromanage the deckhands. Everyone is doing what they need to do, and everything seems cool – for now. Abbi complains that on a sailboat, she could wear shorts and a T-shirt. On a mega-yacht, they have to wear their whites when the guests come, and when the sun goes down, wear a black version of the white thing. Can’t she just chill? Kevin says tonight’s dinner is going to be a classic and expensive surf and turf. Service has been all over the place, but tonight, it has to be on point.

Kate sets up a small table upstairs. The guests get ready for dinner, and the violinist arrives. Kevin has a machine that regulates the temperature of the meat, and it keeps beeping. He doesn’t know how to fix it, and Kate says it’s like Chinese water torture for her ears. He tells her it’s going to keep beeping until the guests are ready. In Kate’s interview, she says, Kevin is spiraling out, and sh*tting himself. It’s not going to end well.

Kevin starts stressing because the guests aren’t seated yet. In her interview, Kate says, charter guests are never at the table on time. They’re on vacation. She doesn’t know why he’s being bajiggity about it. I’m guessing that’s similar to persnickety. Kate shows Michael and Samantha to their upstairs table, and they’re suitably impressed. The violinist plays, and the guests downstairs hear it. One says, someone’s heart is pumping fast right now. In the crew mess, the other deckhands ask Tanner how the excursion was, and he tells them about Courtney complaining that she has to work to get money. Ashton says his opinion of her just went down ten notches. Courtney walks in, and Ashton asks how her day on the beach was. She says she loved every minute of it. Tanner says, no she didn’t, and they all laugh. Dinner is served, and Samantha says, it’s better than any steakhouse. Michael is looking weird, and she says, what is it? He says she’ll find out later. Ashton tells the deckhands to get some rest.

In Kate’s interview, she says she loves Courtney and Simone. They take direction well, and have no egos – yet. Michael tells Samantha that he thinks he owes her for helping him every day. She put up with all the moves startups, and has stood by his side. She says she loves him, and he asks if she would be willing to do that for the rest of their lives. Kate comes up to clear some things from the table. Michael and Samantha get quiet, and in her interview, Kate says, whoopsie. Her bad. Michael tells Samantha that he doesn’t want to do life without her, and gets down on one knee. He asks her to marry him, and she starts to cry. He puts the ring on her finger, and Kate announces they now have an engaged couple on the boat. Michael and Samantha join the others, and Kate says, good job, everyone. Samantha was borderline sobbing. Abbi tells Ashton about being in an open relationship. If she doesn’t want to be possessed, she can’t possess anyone. In her interview, she says she’s seeing a captain named Patrick. She thinks she loves him, but if another guy likes her, YOLO. She asks Ashton if he’s interested in anyone, but Ashton says he needs to be focused on his job.

Captain Lee tells the crew, well done, and congratulates the couple. In his interview, he says, it’s a major event. It puts a smile on his face, and makes him feel warm and fuzzy. Samantha FaceTimes with dog Teddy, and shows him the ring. Ashton asks how Kevin is doing, and Kevin says he hasn’t been on the toilet for eight hours, so it’s a good indication that he’s better.

Kate tells Courtney to iron the epaulettes. One of the guests says, Samantha thought the dating period was long, wait until she sees how long the engagement period is. Samantha doesn’t look amused. Ashton goes to the bridge, and asks how Captain Lee is. The captain says he checked the obits, and he’s not in them, so it’s a good day. Kevin makes omelets, and the anchor is pulled up. Ashton asks Abbi if she needs help, but she says she’s good. He tells her that if she trusts herself, he trusts her too. In his interview, Ashton says it’s the first time he’s docked with this crew, and it’s where they show their true colors. He’s the leader now, and if things go wrong on deck, it’s on him. In Abbi’s interview, she says, a sailboat was easier than this huge-ass behemoth boat. Damaging anything could be thousands of dollars. They dock, but Abbi has a hard time tossing the line to the guy on shore. The captain says they can’t hold the boat forever, and she finally nails it. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says, it’s like landing a plane. There are a lot of moving parts when they’re coming in. It’s not pretty, but it’s effective.

It’s time for the guests to depart, and Michael tells the crew it was an absolutely perfect experience. He starts to walk, and Samantha taps him. He says, one more thing, and adds this is why he keeps her around. He gives Captain Lee an envelope, and everyone says how cute he is. Courtney wonders where her phone and soul are. They clean the boat, and Brian tells Abbi that he used to be temperamental back in the day, but tries not to be like that now. Abbi tells Brian about being homeless while she was going to college. She slept on a bench at the school, and changed clothes for work on the train. In her interview, she says she eventually got a full scholarship to law school. She thinks that makes her kind of badass.

Time for the tip meeting. The captain thinks it was outstanding for a first charter. He asks how Ashton feels about his first time out as bosun. Ashton is glad the first one is done. Captain Lee says he did well, and Ashton says he has a good crew; they made it easy. Kevin says, there were some kinks, and the Captain says he thinks everybody wants to do well. They do the best job they can, and all they can do, is do better as they get to know each other. The tip is $17,000 or $1500 each. In Simone’s interview, she says, $1500 for two days work is beyond. Captain Lee tells them, go out for cocktails; they earned it. But don’t embarrass themselves or the boat. Kate finds Kevin rummaging through a cupboard in the galley. He says he’s looking for something, and tells Kate he wants to sit with the stews, who he calls girls. Kate says she noticed there’s a particular way he likes things. In Kate’s interview, she says it was wrong for him to say there were kinks to be worked out in front of the crew and captain. She is pissed.

Everyone gets ready to go out. In his interview, Tanner says he gave 100%; now he’s ready to party. They get in a taxi, and go to a restaurant in the Thalang District in Phuket. Still refraining from making jokes. In Brian’s interview, he thinks Courtney can be hard to please. It throws him off, but he kind of likes it. Abbi says she hates being salty and wet, and Kate is surprised, since she worked on a sailboat. In Tanner’s interview, he says he’s always been attracted to older women. There’s no drama; they’ve already dealt with the bullsh*t. When cougars come out to play, you know you’re in for a good time. After dinner, they move on to a beach club, where there are acrobats hanging on silks. Brian says he wants liquor, and Ashton gets a bottle of vodka. In Ashton’s interview, he says, Thailand is fun, but you can get into a lot of trouble. He thinks they put something in the vodka there. Some of the crew members hit the dancefloor. In Simone’s interview, she says she loves dancing. Music is like her drug. A beat comes on, and she gets cuckoo. In Courtney’s interview, she says it’s not her thing. She’s like an old woman; she enjoys silence and glass of wine, or good conversation. She doesn’t like people she doesn’t know sweating on her. Ashton flirts with a random girl. Abbi tells Tanner that she thinks Ashton is hot. He asks if she wants to hook up with him; she’s crushing on him hard. She says, not until ten minutes ago. In her interview, she says Ashton being her boss doesn’t affect things. She had sex all time with her boss in Greece. Tanner tells her that she’s hot AF, and she’s good. Abbi tells Ashton that she likes him, and asks if he feels her. In his interview, he says, good idea? Bad idea? Screw it. It’s a great idea. She tells him, come to mama, and he says he’s got her.

Ashton hugs Abbi, and says he loves her. It’s time to go back to the boat, and the crew gets in two taxis. Tanner wants to sit next to Kate, but she makes him get in the back, rather than crowd her and Courtney. Brian tells Courtney that’s she’s pretty, but she needs to smile more. He tells her, please laugh, and she says, be funnier. In Courtney’s interview, she says she does smile, but not when he’s telling her to. He’s an idiot. STFU. Google men telling women to smile, and you’ll see how most of us feel about that. Ashton tells Abbi that she’s his favorite. He tells the deckhands that he’s sleeping on the pads on deck tonight, and they’re welcome to cuddle. They all go upstairs. In the crew mess, Courtney tells Simone that she’s never gone up to a man and say he’s pretty and ask him to smile. She won’t smile because Brian tells her to.

The next morning, the deckhands wake up in their clothes. In Abbi’s interview, she says it would have been less awkward waking up next to Ashton if they’d actually hooked up. It’s going to be a weird day. Kate wonders where the drugs are. She lies on the couch. In her interview, she thinks the vodka if different in Thailand. She’s like eighteen-year-old Kate, partying for the first time, and hung over. It’s not a good look. She tells Simone to do laundry, and Courtney to sort the pantry. Ashton is glad the deckhands don’t have much to do today.

Kate asks Kevin about his daughter. He says her name is Billie, and Kate says she loves girls with boy’s names. In Kevin’s interview, he says he and Billie’s mother broke up twelve months after she was born. It’s hard to be away from his daughter. She’s his life, and what he lives for. He tells Kate that Billie lives in Melbourne. Tanner tells Abbi that she’ll have to talk to him like it’s his first day. Brian asks Simone if there were issues in the car, and she says he whined that Courtney doesn’t like him. He says he definitely drank too much, and obviously said something he doesn’t remember. Kevin takes apart a jackfruit. I only mention this because I recognize it from 90 Day Fiancé. Abbi tells Ashton that he was trying to get it in with her last night, and he says don’t lie. Brian wants to talk to Courtney, and says he hopes he didn’t offend her or do anything wrong, She says he was just annoying her, and he says he’s sorry. She says he was annoying, but she appreciates the apology. He says he wants things to be okay. In her interview, she says she’s not that mad, but she won’t forget it.

Ashton asks what Simone did before she was a yachtie. She says she worked at a sports betting place, did hostessing, anything that wasn’t nine to five. Ashton thinks that’s why they’re all in yachting. They’re all running from that. In Simone’s interview, she says she researched what she could do to earn money and see the world. She went into yachting and loves it.

Captain Lee calls Kevin, Ashton, and Kate to the wheelhouse for the preference sheet meeting. It’s repeat customers, Richard and Helen. In Kate’s interview, she says she loves them. Helen is over-the-top – we flash back to her openly flirting with Chef Adrian – and Richard is the strong silent type. They’re so nuts; she loves them. The captain says Helen owns a Beverly Hills lingerie store, and they don’t know what Richard does. They’re bringing their closest friends. They want to go fishing, and should they catch anything, want to eat it. Regardless, they want that dinner to be a seafood extravaganza. In Kevin’s interview, he says he’s worried about this charter. These are repeat customers, and there have been problems with service. Everyone needs to know the way he works. The guests also want a beach picnic and an island excursion. Tanner calls his parents, and tells them that the first charter couldn’t have gone better. Then they got hammered at a restaurant. His mom says, sounds like fun, and asks if there were any hookers there. She worries. In his interview, Tanner says he’s the youngest of four, and they’re very close. His dad is retired, and his mom is a flight attendant and his best friend. He would come home drunk when he was in high school, and she’d ask if he was having fun. He could get away with murder. She tells him, don’t get anyone pregnant.

Abbi can’t find her radio. Courtney says she wants a seafood extravaganza; it’s not fair. Ashton tells Abbi to look everywhere for the radio, knowing how much this pisses the captain off. Provisions come in, and in his interview, Kevin says they need a meeting. His standards are high, and the service isn’t matching what he’s trying to put out. He needs them to understand his plan of attack so they’re on the same page. He doesn’t really tell them anything they don’t know already, and points out where he’ll be hanging the menu. In Kate’s interview, she says, Kevin is asserting power. The last time she checked, the chief stew was head of service. He needs to focus on his job being a chef, and she’ll do the rest.

The captain finds Abbi’s radio. He calls Ashton, and asks who doesn’t have a one. Ashton says they’ve been searching for one, not wanting to out Abbi, but Captain Lee asks whose radio they’re looking for. Ashton tells him, and says she’s been looking everywhere. The captain tells him to bring all the deckhands to the wheelhouse. In the captain’s interview, he says he comes apart like a cheap suit over somebody not having a radio. It pisses him off to no end. He tells them the radio was in the wheelhouse, and he hopes this is the last time he’s having this conversation. Abbi apologizes. He suggests they sleep with their radios. It should be part of them. If they don’t have a radio, and something catastrophic happens where they need assistance they’ll find out what sorry is. So will the person whose life they’re trying to save. In Abbi’s interview, she says she doesn’t want to disrespect the Captain Lee, because she respects him, and now she’s effing up his number one rule. She apologizes, and the captain tells her not to let it happen again. The next time won’t be as pretty. On deck, Ashton tells her not to get stressed about it, but be more careful. Sort it out, and move on. They high five. The captain says, ten minutes until show time.

Captain Lee tells the crew to step it up. He sees the guests walking this way. One of the guests thinks the boat’s name is Velour. (It’s Valor.) They’re met with drinks served in hollowed out melons with a thousand umbrellas and such in them. Helen is very excited, and I note that she’s lost weight. She says she’s brought her girl squad. The captain welcomes them back, and says they’re going to get this party on the road. Even he’s tired of saying, get this party started. Helen says she’s ready. Guest Brandy is seriously drunk already, and acting stupid. Kevin tells the captain, the girl in the white dress is really drunk, and Captain Lee says, she’s hammered. Ashton says, it must be the hottest day of the year (which must be pretty hot, since it always seems to be brutally hot there), and she’s already wasted. Another guest asks Kate if she’s the captain. Even if the epaulettes fooled her, this is after the introductions. Kate starts to give the tour, and Brandy wants to go to her room. She gets a panic attack, and one of the women asks who invited her. In Kate’s interview, she’s not sure what they were served before they came there, but she thinks Brandi had a lot of them. Brandi lies on a couch in the small lounge. In her interview, Kate says she’s had guests pass out before, but never within the first hour. She didn’t even get through the whole boat tour.

Next time, Kevin tells Simone that she hasn’t seen rude, the tender gets stuck on shore, Kevin forgets to buy seafood for the seafood extravaganza (what was that about high standards?), and the captain says Brandy needs medical attention immediately.

We backtrack a tiny bit. Captain Sandy asks the guests how dinner is, and if it’s hot. Since they’re too drunk to have even started eating, she tastes it herself, and says, it’s not hot. She tells Ben, and in his interview, he says, it’s a nightmare. It’s impossible, and he doesn’t use that word. Hannah asks the guests if dinner was good, and primary Laura says, amazing, baby. Colin comes up to help clear the plates, and the women get excited. Anastasia and Aesha clean the cabins. Anastasia is glad it’s not as much effort as being the chef. Travis is pissed off, because he lost his room, and says Jack is off having fun with Aesha. She took Jack away completely. Ben says lunch was more of a success because he was using the oven. Anastasia is happy it’s not her. I have no idea what the dessert is – a flourless chocolate something – but it looks really good. The guests think it’s horrible, which Hannah translates to not very good, and Aesha has to tell Ben the bad news. Ben says the guests are effing insane, and clearly mad. That makes him feel better.

One guest talks about sleeping with another’s ex-husband. Another goes out on deck, and starts doing handstands. Jack and Aesha watch her dance around. Jack says he’s seen her bare ass more times than Aesha’s. Hannah goes to bed. Natalie bugs Travis in the galley, and a bunch of them accost Jack on the bridge. He calls to Aesha for help. She tells him to keep his clothes on. In her interview, Aesha says she’s annoyed, and she’s not a jealous person. She must really care about him. Captain Sandy half-jokingly asks the guests not to harass her crew members; Jack really has to pay attention. Jack thanks her for saving him, and tells her, these women are a mess. A bunch of them act like five-year-olds in the lounge, and finally go to bed, one making up a song about Captain Sandy on the way. Jack loves on Aesha in the galley, and she tells him to stop enjoying himself so much. She cleans up, and gets in the bunk with him. She says now they can watch a movie in bed, and he says, lots of things. In Jack’s interview, he doesn’t know how he feels about living with someone he hasn’t had sex with. He has to be patient. This girl is worth it.

The captain can’t find a stew anywhere, and she pokes her head into Hannah and Anastasia’s cabin. Anastasia realizes she overslept, and Captain Sandy says, not acceptable. In Hannah’s interview, she says she wants back her annoyingly perfect third stew, that she had on the first charters. Jack tells the other deckhands that Aesha has given him rules, like getting dry in the shower, and not waking her up. His only rule for her is, just be naked. It’s give and take. Breakfast is started, and Ben is like the hairdresser who follows you out because they saw one last hair that needed clipping, as he follows Anastasia to put one more piece of garnish on a plate. Travis tells Jack, he’s fine, but he’s bored. Maybe he wants more, but there isn’t anything. He says he’s not getting drunk before going out this time. In his interview, he says Jack has Aesha, and he has vodka. It numbs the mind, so you don’t think about sh*t.

A couple of guests use the jet skis. Anastasia tells Aesha about getting up late. Ben curses the range. Aesha gives the guests on deck some drinks, and they ask for cheeseburgers. They want naughty food. Aesha tells Ben that he’s going to hate her, and relays the request. The captain asks for the slide to be put out. Ben says he can handle the cooking, but he can’t fix the burners. He’s relying on instinct and experience. Captain Sandy says she has to start the engine because they’re dragging anchor. She asks the deck crew to get the guests back on the boat, and the water toys out of the water. In her interview, the captain explains that they need to reset, and she doesn’t need the deckhands to be blasé about getting the toys back in. Ben gets jazzed about the cheeseburgers getting cold. In his interview, he says, it’s important to keep hot food hot, but doesn’t think Hannah grasps the concept. It’s been one disaster after another.

The water toys are brought in. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says dragging anchor is dangerous, and she needs to re-secure the vessel. Colin reaches for the anchor chain and thinks he broke… it. What? His finger? His nose? His man parts? João gives the signal, and they drop anchor. Colin is limping, so is it his foot? The burgers are approved by the guests. Colin tells the captain that he got his toe caught, and he injured his wrist, so I’m still not getting what happened. In her interview, the captain says the thought of losing Colin is causing a tightening in her chest. Colin tells Jack that he landed on his wrist. Jack says, first Colin tried to take June’s place, now he injured himself to get away from them. João takes Colin to shore. Colin is hoping it’s just a sprain. In João’s interview, he asks, how much almost losing Colin can he go through? He can’t afford to lose him. Colin is his best mate, and he needs him be around. He drops Colin off, and Colin gets in a taxi.

João asks the guests if they’re having a chill day. Laura says, more mellow than yesterday. João thinks it’s the calm before the storm. Ben says he’d be screwed without Anastasia. Captain Sandy tells Ben that she’ll be having dinner with the guests. In Ben’s interview, he says it’s nerve wracking when a captain eats with the guests. Any prior complaints can be blamed on the guests, but the captain can attest to what they say. It’s like they lawyered up. In Hannah’s interview, she says both she and Ben need Anastasia for dinner service. Travis whines to João that he sees his old bed with teddy bears on it. In João’s interview, he says, Jack is acting like he just got dumped by his teen sweetheart. They’re still on the same boat. It’s not like Jack moved to another country. The guests order shots, like they need them. João picks up Colin, who says his wrist is just inflamed, and he has to wear a brace for a few days. In his interview, he says, trust him. You don’t want to see the other guy.

The obnoxious guests get ready for dinner. Hannah is nervous because Ben decides to do a self-service family style dinner. He says, plates coming back are depressing. In Hannah’s interview, she says, Ben is sensitive, and not as cocky as he was in Greece. We flash back to that, and she says, he’s still volatile. Just not as cocky. Ben tells Sandy about his serving choice, and says it could be hangovers or their drinking, but the guests don’t seem to be eating. In the captain’s interview, she says, whatever gets Ben to perform best. She tells him that she trusts her chef. Ben says, thankfully, the burner is working. Guest Jules babbles to the captain about Aspen. Guest Stephanie interrupts, and Jules gets testy. In her interview, Captain Sandy says she doesn’t want people to fight for her attention. Guest Samantha asks why they’re serving themselves, and the captain says Ben wasn’t sure if they were going to eat. Samantha wants to see him now. He asks Hannah if that’s good or bad, and there are lots of bleeps. The guys hum Chopin’s Funeral March.

Samantha tells Ben, don’t be worried; it’s good, and everyone praises his food. He thanks them, and jets. Samantha says she likes when he’s nervous, and another jerkface says, he’s cute when he’s nervous. Idiots. I can’t even imagine an amount of money that would make me feel like I could humiliate any kind of workers, whether it’s by coming on to them or making them uncomfortable in another way. Unless I knew them. J/K. Kind of.

Ben uses a flamethrower on the crème brûlée dessert. It’s a success. Captain Sandy has to go back to the bridge. She stops by the galley, and tells Ben, it was amazing, but it got cold. Ben says the shrimp were sizzling when they came out of the galley. The captain says, it’s a long way to go, and Ben suggests getting stones to put them on, which sounds like a really good idea. The captain says it’s the best meal she’s had since she’s been on the boat.

Colin calls his mom to tell her about his injury. She wants to know what medication they gave him, but he says he hasn’t taken anything yet. She suggests he get a desk job, and his dad says, hang in there, as parents will. Jules and Stephanie argue about what happened at the table, and Stephanie says Jules is causing a scene. The other guests get out of the way, wanting to avoid the drama. The crew members do their best to eavesdrop. In Hannah’s interview, she says they’re fighting about getting Sandy’s attention. It’s strangely ironic, since for the past year, she’d been trying to get Sandy’s attention off of her. Stephanie says, that’s not how she saw it, but Jules doesn’t care. Stephanie can’t believe how aggressive Jules is getting with her. She did nothing unacceptable. They finally go to their cabins. This better be a big freaking tip. These women are total jerks.

Aesha and Jack make fun of them in the galley. Natalie wants to play the golf game, and Travis sets it up for her. She comments on how big his hands are, pretending not to know what she’s inferring. He bluntly reminds her. In his interview, he says he’s feeling isolated. Flirting with a beautiful woman is a nice change. The argument continues in the cabins, until it’s finally agreed they’ll deal with it in the morning.

It’s a new day. The guests gather for breakfast, but no talk of the idiocy from the night before. Jack tells Colin not to lift anything. Make João do it. Hannah tells Colin if he needs a hand, let her know. João suggests Jack drive them out. In his interview, João says there are very few things he can do to show Jack his appreciation. It’s like rewarding a dog with a bone. In Jack’s interview, he says, it’s a lovely little surprise. João must be drinking. He wouldn’t trust himself. Travis composes a note to Natalie. In his interview, he says they’re not allowed to fraternize with the guests on the boat, so he decided to do it off the boat. The guests pack, and the crew gets into their whites, queuing up on dock.

Jack slips Natalie the note during the goodbyes. Laura thanks them, and says it was an amazing experience, and the food was amazing. Ben is glad it’s over. Jack jumps on Aesha when they get back to their bunk. Captain Sandy calls everyone to the lounge for the tip meeting. She says considering she had to let a crew member go, and how their roles changed, other than Anastasia oversleeping, it went well. She tells Anastasia not to let it happen again, and Anastasia says, it only happens once. The captain says, Ben flew across the Atlantic Ocean, and nailed it in a galley he’s never been in. He says he couldn’t have done it without the crew, especially Anastasia. The tip is 13,800 euros, or 1250 ($1367.56) each. Hannah says, it’s hush money. In his interview, Jack says, sexual harassment, but the tip made it worth it.

Captain Sandy shows Hannah pictures of table settings from a boat show she went to. She tells Hannah she wants the tables at this level. In the captain’s interview, she says if Hannah can’t do it, she needs to inspire her stews to do it. Travis announces that he’s getting toasted on Red Bull and vodka. Hannah is pumped for tonight, but she’s not babysitting. She tells Jack, who says Travis isn’t as bad as she thinks. He had a few bad days. In Hannah’s interview, she says she’s not spending her night off babysitting a wasted Travis. Been there, done that, got the postcard, and not interested in getting another one again..

Hannah asks if Travis is still planning on being a good boy. Travis says he’s scrapped that idea, and she tells him, don’t make her night sh*t. He doesn’t like the way she said it, but agrees. In Travis’s interview, he says, Hannah is super condescending. The crew gets ready to go out. In Hannah’s interview, she says, the last time she as on a crew’s night out with Ben, he went back to the boat, and banged her third stew. Here’s to history not repeating itself. In the taxi, Aesha tells Hannah that she looks effing sexy, and she could eat Hannah’s face off. Sometimes I think these people are just out at sea too long.

It’s a beautiful restaurant/club, but the seating at the table is really tight. Jack is ready for RBV’s. In her interview, Hannah says she asked him to chill. She doesn’t want to babysit. Travis tells Jack that he’d like to stick his lips on Hannah. I suggest he not tell Hannah that. Waiters come with sparklers, ice buckets, and bottles of liquor, particularly vodka. Outside, in the smoking section, Hannah asks Travis if he’s holding a grudge, and Travis says, it’s old. He’s tired of her conflicting messages. In Travis’s interview, he says he just needs to get through the next two weeks, and he doesn’t have to deal with sh*t again. Hannah tells him that he’s weird, and he goes back inside.

Aesha tells Travis that she loves him, and he says he knows. João tells Colin that Travis is bent on destruction. He can see it. Travis sticks a long straw into a HUGE vodka bottle, and sucks it down. The girls dance. Colin and João go outside. Travis falls on the floor, and breaks one of the bottles. Hannah dances on a table, ignoring all of this totally. Travis goes to sit down, and keels over. Ben calls him an effing wanker. In his interview, Ben says we all know he’s been drunk before, but there’s drunk, and then there’s Travis drunk. Anastasia says, it’s not okay to get drunk like this every single time. Ben helps Travis up and outside. In Ben’s interview, he says he was looking forward to blowing off some steam, and familiarizing himself with his new crew, not babysitting. But apparently, he’s the babysitter. He tosses Travis into the taxi.

Next time, a guest passes out at dinner, João says it has the potential for disaster, Captain Sandy tells Travis that she can smell alcohol on his breath, and Ben gets burned – literally.

General Hospital

At The Floating Rib fundraiser, Felicia tells Laura that she’s heard positive things about her campaign. Not-Doc says his wife is a rock star. He has the feeling tonight will be unforgettable. Laura says they’re raising funds for a good cause. Thunder starts to rumble outside. Felicia says they’re raising money for mental health, but if Laura gets a boost, that’s even better. Laura says tonight isn’t about her. Not-Doc says he wants her to be the next mayor.

Carly is glad to see Michael. She wonders if he’s there because he feels obligated, and tells him that he doesn’t have to be okay. It’s okay if he wants to be at home. He tells her that he wasn’t in the best place when they last talked, but thinks he’s taking a step in the right direction. Carly asks, how so?

At the pier, Josslyn is in a Princess Leia costume, and Cameron is Han Solo. He says he’ll do whatever she says as long as he gets paid. He thinks she makes a great Princess Leia, since she has bossy down pat. She complains that he didn’t bring Chewbacca, but he says Chewy is eight feet tall, not a stuffed animal. She flashes back to when Oscar gave her some dragons for her Daenerys costume last year.

Oscar buses tables at Charlie’s. Drew walks in, and asks if he has a second, but Oscar tells Drew he has nothing to say. And he has a lot of work to do. Charlie’s is pretty empty, and Drew says he might buy that excuse if Julian had bothered to decorate for Halloween. Oscar tells him that Julian is against a kids’ holiday being co-opted by drunk adults. Drew says they want to give Oscar space, but they were worried. Kim is freaking out. Oscar says he’s sorry to ruin their night, but Drew says he came because he wanted to see if Oscar was okay. He hasn’t been home in days. Oscar says he found a place to stay. Drew wonders about money for rent, but Oscar says, they’re nice people. Drew wants him to elaborate; fill in the blanks. Oscar asks, why? So Drew can drag him home, and force him to go through the drug trial?

Julian sees Kim at the hospital. She says she’s been trying to reach him, and he says he’s been trying to avoid giving her the bad news. He wasn’t able convince Alexis to drop the case.

Chase walks in with Jordan, and Laura says she can always count on the PCPD. Chase says they have a killer turnout, and Jordan says mental health awareness makes their job easier. Alexis joins them, saying she wouldn’t miss a worthy cause, and it should also boost Laura’s campaign. Laura says that’s not what tonight is about, but Alexis says it’s a collateral benefit. Laura notices Alexis is wearing her mother’s watch. Alexis says it’s one of the few things left of her mother’s and one of the few really nice things she has. Laura tells Alexis it’s fortuitous that Valentin found it, but in her experience, any gift from a Cassadine comes with a hidden cost.

Nina and Valentin sit in front of the fire at Windemere. Valentin says he’s sorry the storm inconvenienced her, but Charlotte will be delighted to see her at breakfast. She tells him that she’s not staying overnight. The rain has stopped, and she’s getting changed. Valentin says the coast guard has closed traffic to the island. Nina thinks the storm isn’t that bad, and the lights go out. She says, of course.

Curtis and Jordan pretend they’re in Casino Royale. Jordan thinks they’re overdressed for a harvest festival, but Curtis says they should get credit for just showing up. They kiss.

Lulu tells Laura that she checked with her editor on Laura’s write-in campaign. Laura wonders why everyone thinks tonight is about her campaign, and Alexis tells her, welcome to politics. Lulu is proud of her mother. She loves Ned, but no one is more qualified. Laura says she’s just hoping her presence in the election gets Ned to look at other issues about mental health. Alexis says, too late. Ned and Olivia-Q walk in.

Valentin tells Nina the power is out on the island, and for some reason, the generator didn’t go on. He hopes the fire is keeping her warm enough. They clink glasses. Valentin asks if he’s making her uncomfortable, but Nina says, no. He tells her it brings back memories. His favorite part of the evening was sitting with her by the fire. We flash back to them getting busy in front of the fireplace, and Nina says she remembers.

Michael tells Carly that he’s attending a group who meets at the hospital. She says he’s been through a lot. She took his strength for granted, and didn’t realize how much he was holding in. Not just about Jonah, but being in prison and AJ’s murder. Michael tells her it’s something he has to do on his own. It’s something that has to belong to him and only him. Carly understands. Michael leaves to get a drink, and Ava approaches the table. She says, Michael’s capacity to forgive is astonishing. He must get it from his father’s side – the one Sonny murdered. Carly says if she wants to rehash AJ’s death, let’s do it.

Mac has brought costumes, and Felicia tells him it’s not a costume party. He says it’s Halloween, and asks not-Doc if he’s too good for their alter-egos. Felicia likes it, but not-Doc doesn’t feel that he should resurrect Eve. Mac says he’s Eve; Doc is Norma. Not-Doc says it might seem like they’re making light of an important and sensitive evening, and Mac thinks, maybe it’s time kill off those two broads. Not-Doc says he couldn’t agree more.

Ava wonders if Carly forced Michael to forgive the man who murdered his father. Carly says Ava should be grateful Sonny shot AJ, since he was trying to strangle her for Connie’s murder. Ava says she was exonerated, but Carly says the charges were dropped because there wasn’t enough evidence. She says it’s strange that Ava is there tonight, since she didn’t give a damn about Morgan’s mental health. Ava is sick of being blamed for Morgan’s death. She wasn’t responsible; Olivia-J planted the car bomb. Carly says Ava is the reason Morgan spiraled out of control, and the reason he got in the car. Sonny will be coming for her one day, and it won’t end pretty. Not-Doc looks at Ava.

Josslyn bemoans not having a Wookie, but Cameron says he doesn’t do action figures or stuffed animals. Josslyn wonders if she has to beg for every fake boyfriend thing. She says they have to post a selfie, and Cameron tells her to be careful what she posts online. She says Oscar has to see them, and he says his mom has been giving him the third degree. She’s worried about the trouble they might get into. He gets close, and we think he’s going to kiss her, but he sprays her with silly string.

Oscar tells Drew that he’s not changing his mind. Drew says no one wants to involve the cops. He wanted to make Oscar was sure safe. Oscar wonders how it feels, not having vital information about his health. Drew says he also wanted to update Oscar. He deserves the same information they have. They learned that lesson the hard way. He tells Oscar the trial starts on December 1^st, and they still have time to hit the road.

Kim thanks Julian for trying to reason with Alexis. She thought he could get through. She doesn’t understand how anyone in their right mind could take on the case. Alexis is a mother; how can she sleep at night knowing she’s signing Oscar’s death certificate? Julian says Alexis believes Oscar is old enough to have a say, and he agrees with her.

Laura tells Ned it’s nice of him to attend, and he says the more attention they bring to mental health, the better the city will be. Olivia says they pledge to match all of the donations, and Ned says tomorrow, he’s laying out a special plan. He focused on the economy, but now that business is booming, he’s going to refocus on mental health and social services. Carly thinks they need to talk about Ferncliff.

Valentin tells Nina it’s a special occasion; the breakfast menu should reflect it. Nina says he’s assuming the power will be back in the morning. She accuses him of setting it up to get her to spend the night. She says he thought he bamboozled her. Valentin and I both say, bamboozled? She bought the whole thing about the harbor traffic, but he pushed it too far when he arranged a power outage. He says she knows it’s the first thing to go in a storm. Contrary to folklore, his family doesn’t control the weather. It’s a series of unfortunate events. Nina says, for her, and Valentin says he’ll cherish every moment with her. She wonders how she’s supposed to believe him.

Ned asks Carly, what about Ferncliff? She says she knows firsthand about the abuse there. Olivia says it’s state run, but Ned says she has a good point. The city should take a more active role in monitoring it. He invites Carly and Laura to form a task force after his inauguration. He hopes they’ll consider his offer. Alexis thinks he’s speaking too soon. A poll was just posted, and Laura is surging.

Kim says Julian isn’t being fair. He tells her that he didn’t say he agreed, and Kim says he didn’t have to. Alexis is looking at it like a lawyer. She’s looking at it as a mother. If she does nothing, her child dies. If she has to fight in court, so be it. She’s willing to fight as long as it saves Oscar’s life. Julian asks what if it doesn’t, and they spent each moment fighting?

Drew tells Oscar about a meteor shower in November in central Florida. He suggests they rent an RV, drive along the coast, and have an adventure. It might get weird, but it’ll be fun. Oscar says it passes over their way every year; it’s not that special. Drew says someone told him to find grace in everyday little moments. Regardless of how special the even it, spending time with Oscar is special. Oscar says he can’t leave because of the lawsuit. Drew knew that, didn’t he?

Nina asks if Valentin is saying to put their cards on the table, and Valentin says she’s not being completely honest. Look back at his mistakes and lies, and ask herself if there was ever a time when she thought she didn’t mean the world to him? He screwed everything up, but he knew the moment he laid eyes on her, that she was special. As soon as they were married, he knew he’d always love her and never stop. Nina still thinks it was purposely set up, but Valentin swears on everything he holds dear, he didn’t ground the launch to force her to stay. Nina says he’s using it to his advantage, and he says, yes. He’d use any advantage to remind her how good they had it. He’ll never give up hope. One day, he’ll say the right thing to convince her to come back. They kiss YES! I love them together.

NO! Nina says, it’s a mistake, and Valentin says, it’s fate. She says the kiss shouldn’t have happened. What if Charlotte had walked in. Valentin says she would be thrilled, but Nina says it would have gotten her hopes up.

Alexis tells Laura she’s got 28% of the vote. Olivia congratulates her. She’s shown how important it is to get involved. She should be proud. Geez, she might as well pat Laura on the head. Laura thanks her. She tells Alexis that she can’t win at 28%, but Alexis says she has momentum. She can gain support in the next week. Not-Doc says, a lot can happen in the next few days. Even tonight.

Josslyn calls Cameron a jerk. He says she didn’t see it coming. Josslyn says she knows how to prank. When he least expects it, payback is coming. Wait and see. Ha-ha! That’s what I tell people. It could be ten minutes or ten years.

Oscar says Drew wants him out of town. He and Kim cooked it up together. A stupid father/son field trip, where Drew would force him to be a science experiment. Drew says he wants to spend as much time as he can with. He understands he’s the dad Oscar never asked for. He’s only been in a tiny portion of Oscar’s life, but he and Scout are his entire life. They’re all he has, and he’s not ready to let Oscar go.

Kim tells Julian that she knows the treatment will help. Julian says she’s a doctor. Debates regarding the quality vs quantity of life must be common. Kim says, for those who’ve already lived a full life. There’s the possibility this could buy Oscar more time; maybe enough to be cured. She’s not giving up without a fight.

Carly thanks not-Doc for looking out for her at Ferncliff, and protecting her protect from Mary Pat. He says to try and put it behind her. She says she has so many questions. The guy next to her was desperate to communicate. He was using Morse code. Not-Doc says he explained before that the patient belongs there. Carly says he must be able to tell her something. He gets testy, and says he can’t, and she should know when to back off.

Chase sees Michael, and says he noticed Michael duck out. They haven’t talked while; is he okay? Michael doesn’t know. He’s been thinking about Jonah a lot. The doctors say the trauma didn’t cause his death, but he still goes over it anyway. One choice causes a ripple effect. Who knows what would have happened if Nelle gave birth in an actual hospital? Chase says it’s Michael’s mind playing tricks. He’s giving Nelle what she wants. Michael asks if Chase is doing the same thing, and Chase says he called Zack’s family. They were relieved it was over, but he kept thinking that he prolonged their nightmare by getting involved with Nelle in the first place. He’s not the hero in the story. Michael says he made things right. He owes it to himself to make peace with what happened. Chase says, back atcha.

Nina tells Valentin that she doesn’t doubt they love each other. But if she lets him in to her heart again, he’ll hurt her. He won’t intend to, but he will. It’s who he is, and she’s not allowing it to happen again. Valentin says he’ll put candles in the guest bedroom, so Charlotte won’t get her hopes up. I make a sad face.

Carly asks if not-Doc is okay. He apologizes, saying he’s just protective of her. The patient next door is very dangerous, and where he belongs. She asks how he knows, and he says he looked into it. She asks why he didn’t say something, and he tells her that he’s not inclined to share information about patients. It’s illegal, and highly unethical. He sees Ava. She orders a martini, and he says, make it two. It would be a shame for her to drink alone.

Valentin sees Nina sleeping on the couch. He covers her, his hand lingering on her shoulder.

Ava says she doesn’t mind drinking alone; she doesn’t want pity. Not-Doc asks her, who said anything about pity? Ava says she saw Felicia giving him an earful. She’s sure Felicia couldn’t wait to lay all of her sins on his doorstep. Not-Doc says, like Morgan’s death. Those were other people’s choices. She switched his medication, but she didn’t force him to steal the car. Even if she had, she didn’t wire the car to explode. She’s as much to blame as a distillery is for a drunk driver. He looks forward to exploring what goes on in her mind.

Ned tells Olivia this doesn’t paint him as a beloved mayor. She says he’s a wonderful mayor. It’s easier to criticize than get in and do the work. Ned says she has to say; she loves him. She asks if she’s ever sugarcoated anything. It’s too little too late. If the election was in January or even next month, maybe he should be worried, but it’s hard for a write-in candidate to win. There’s no way she can catch up. Ned hopes she’s right.

Drew tells Oscar there’s so much he wants to show him; so much he hasn’t lived. Oscar appreciates that Drew asked him to go, but he needs to fight this. Drew says Oscar must be his son. it was a long shot. He tells Oscar, happy Halloween. Who says they can’t make Kilimanjaro? He says, goodnight, and leaves.

Kim tells Julian that Oscar is her life. He knows, and wants her to know, however she chooses to handle it, he’s with her all the way. Kim says it’s ironic that when there was no chance of him surviving, their relationship couldn’t have been stronger. Well, he didn’t know he wasn’t surviving either. She says, now he won’t even look her in the eye. She going to keep trying. She’s convinced he can have a happy, full life. It’s worth the risk. If she can’t get through to him, maybe someone else will. Josslyn.

Josslyn wants to take another selfie. Cameron doesn’t care, as long as he gets paid. She tells him, if money is all he loves, it’s what he shall receive. She says, look convincing. Look like he’s having fun. She says she is, and he says, him too.

Not-Doc tells Laura, the games are about to begin. Laura tells everyone that they’ve had a chance to drink and mingle, it’s time for the first mini competition. Ten dollars a try to win a five-hundred dollar gift certificate to Wyndham’s. She turns the floor over to Mac, who says it’s bobbing for apples. No one wants to.

Cameron tells Josslyn that they can still make it to the party. He sees something on the ground, and picks it up.

Laura asks not-Doc to set a good example and be the first, but he says he has to go. He’s working on the sleep study, and is gathering important data over five consecutive nights. She says they’re ships passing in the night. He says he’s certain she’ll give Port Charles a night to remember, and leaves. Laura announces that all the proceeds are going to metal health watch groups, which are vitally important for everyone. She offers a swimming cap. She asks Ned, but Carly says she’ll buy a chance.

Josslyn asks Cameron what he found. He tells her someone lost their ID card, and tosses it. It belongs to Mary Pat.

Carly ties her hair back, and bends to bob for an apple. Mary Pat’s head pops up in the middle of them.

Next time, Nina says she’ll handle Ava, Laura wonders who committed such a heinous act, and Ava screams.

The Shahs of Sunset

Tommy and MJ go to couples’ therapist Nazila. MJ says the stress level is high with planning the wedding. There’s been a new family dynamic since Sham’s passing. She’s seen Vida’s nurturing side, but when the wedding dress came out not so good, the wrath of Vida did too. Tommy says she’s been laisse faire about the wedding, and it’s a tough spot to be in if the dress isn’t what she wants when she didn’t play a part in it. MJ says she’s not seeing the dress until the day before the wedding. Nazila asks what else she needs. MJ says they’ve yet to receive her mom’s blessing. We flash back to Vida’s disapproval of Tommy when he and MJ first got together. Tommy thinks Vida was afraid she’d lose MJ, but when Shama got sick, they were the Three Musketeers, and Vida realized that whatever happened, they’d be there. MJ starts crying because she’s happy. Nazila wonders if they’ve asked Vida about the blessing. MJ says they haven’t; she needs to think about it. In her interview, MJ can’t be certain her mom will be supportive. Tommy says Vida doesn’t like to be put on the spot, and MJ says she’ll talk privately to Vida at the rehearsal dinner. In MJ’s interview, she says this could affect the quality of life as a family. As tough as Vida is, MJ has unrelenting respect and love for her.

Destiney meets Reza for lunch. He toasts to finding her dad. In her interview, Destiney says the journey of finding her father started a few years ago. If she didn’t try, she’d feel terrible if he died without her telling him that he meant more to her than he thinks. Monique joins them. The man she thought was a possible uncle, turned out not to be. She talked to everyone, but can find no US relatives. From what she understands, he’s not in the US. She tells Destiney, wherever he is, he loves her. Destiny says when you love something, you want to nurture it. Monique says, unless he’s busy with his own life. In her interview, Destiney says, men who have other families – you suck. Monique says Destiney might want him to have a family. In Reza’s interview, he says there’s a massive amount of Persian secrecy. They all know someone who has two families; one in Iran and one in the US. He thinks that’s what happened with Destiney’s dad. He tells Destiney that she has the assumption that men leave, but not every man is like that. They pick men who leave. Destiney says she’s the one who leaves. She’s become her father. Reza asks how that’s working for her. She’s not happy, and needs to open up. She doesn’t want to continue the same pattern; it ends with her. In Destiney’s interview, she says she’s glad she has people in her life who care, and understand her culture. She can say how she feels without judgement. She tells Reza that she couldn’t do any of it without him. He says he loves her.

Mike and his mom go to lunch. In his interview, Mike says he and his family members have individual investment properties. The new project is being done as a family. His mom thinks they should sell it, make a profit, and buy something already developed. This project might take two years. His brothers don’t have the time, it’s all on him. Mike says through this project, they get leverage to the next one and the next. They’re not kids anymore. She says all families expectations are different. As a mother, she’s proud of how he’s looking to the future. it gives her a good feeling. Whatever he decides, she respects it, and backs him 1000%. In his interview, Mike says everyone wants their parents approval, but he also wants to win back his mom’s trust because of some bad decisions he made. We flash back to him deciding to get into real estate wit Reza. He thinks he can earn it back. His mom tells him to do it for his relationship with his brothers.

Adam and Reza visit Sheree and Dan, Reza’s business partners. In Reza’s interview, he says he grew up with his dad coming home and making it rain. Adam is conservative with money. Reza thinks if they do well, there will be a baby version of Sheree and Dan’s house down the street, and they’ll be neighbors. In his interview, he says if this doesn’t work out, he’ll never hear the end of it. The rest of the Shahs arrive. The evening is a celebration for Reza’s friends to show them what he’s done. Sheree and Dan are like family, and he wants them to meet his friends who are family. Reza likes being a part of something, from concept to product. It’s like giving birth. Reza says he’s seeing dollar signs. Hopefully, the shampoo line does well enough to pay for the baby. In Mike’s interview, he says Reza is a hard worker, but if he doesn’t get the product into stores, he’ll be stuck with inventory he doesn’t want. It happened to him with the shoes, and Asa with Diamond Water. $500K; he hopes Reza knows what he’s doing. Reza thanks everyone for coming, and they toast.

They go outside. There’s a nubile woman in a giant bubble, floating around the pool, and a fire dancer. Tommy says, because it’s Tuesday. Reza says, fifteen years ago, he couldn’t have imagined the life he has now. He imagined he’d be a single queen growing old ungracefully. He’s glad he got his sh*t together. It’s nice being where he’s at.

Reza and Adam go with Tommy to the cake tasting. Reza says you can’t have bad cake at a Persian wedding. It doesn’t matter if everything else is perfect, it’s all they’ll talk about. He’s been eating rice cakes and egg whites in preparation for the tasting. After his first bite, Tommy thinks people should get married just for the cake. Reza wants to find a cake that’s like MJ. It has to have a lot of flavors, because that bitch is flavorful. It also has to be big and attractive, since she’s that too. Adam asks Tommy if they’re having a traditional wedding, and Tommy says they’re having the ceremony outside. Reza explains that in a traditional non-Jewish Persian wedding, the bride and groom sit side by side with a mirror in front of them so they can see each other. They dip their pinkies in honey, and put it in each other’s mouths. Tommy thinks it’s erotic. Salted caramel and lemon berry are the winners. Reza tells cake baker Joshua that he killed it.

MJ goes for a facial treatment, and Destiney meets her there. She’s having micro needling done, and then her own blood gets put on her face. She’s never tried it before, and in her interview, MJ doesn’t know whether she’ll have a bride bloody face, like a scene from Carrie. Her mom always told her to never try something new for the first time before an important life event, but she doesn’t care. It’s worth the risk. The wedding is in two days, and she needs to look beautiful. Destiney can’t watch; she doesn’t like needles or blood. A vial of blood is taken, and the dermatologist explains that there are thirty-six needles in the device. MJ says, 36 pricks, and they laugh. The plasma is called liquid gold, and applied to the face afterward. In her interview, Destiney says, it’s like a golden shower for your face, which leads me to believe she doesn’t know what that term means. MJ whines that her face is already swollen, and the doctor says it will go away by the end of the day. In MJ’s interview, she says her face could look like a giant herpes explosion.

GG is shooting a commercial for Wusah commercial. Her mom joins her for support. GG says she’s never had a career, a business, or had to dress up for a meeting. She gets ready to film, and has a hard time getting started. The building is in an industrial zone, and trucks keep going by. She can’t get her lines together. She says the old her would have been gone. She finally nails it. In her interview, GG says she never had an attachment to anything. It’s weird being attached to a business. After a long day of meetings, she cries. She’s scared it’s going to bite her in the ass like so many things in life have. She hopes she’s doing the right thing.

MJ calls Nema. He tells her that he’s buying his first piece of real gold. He says it’s a coming full circle Persian moment. He has his gay broker and his bodyguard. Reza has the negotiating skills, and Shervin is the muscle. They meet Nema at the store. Reza tells Nema that every year he got a pahlavi; a gold coin. In his interview, Reza says Nema is like a sponge. He wants as much Persianity as possible. He missed out on it growing up. Nema is feeling a chain. He’s okay with being a basic bitch. Reza picks out a few chains for Nema to check out. In Nema’s interview, he says, everything happens for a reason. His marriage and divorce happened so he could find his own happiness. Part of which, was connecting with his culture; something he’d been missing his whole life. Because Mike took his sister out, he connected with a group of friends. He says his new friends have been more influential to his cultural growth than anyone in his life. Reza says he’s happy Nema is getting the chain he got when he was sixteen. Shervin welcomes him to the club.

MJ’s childhood friend, Kerry, arrives. She flew there from the east coast for the wedding. She’s going with MJ to get gifts for her party and helpers. MJ would have been running errands with her dad and Kerry. She and Shams loved doing everything together. She thinks the three of them are together in spirit. They’re go to the venue to pay them, and MJ wonders if she should be concerned, since it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to tomorrow. She has so many things to worry about at the last minute. YOLO. You’re not counting Your money today. Just spending it for a pretty effing six-hour party.

Adam and Reza get to the rehearsal dinner first. MJ can’t believe her dad won’t be walking her down the aisle. Vida tells her, don’t cry. He’s alive in their hearts. Be happy. The reason they are there is because of Shams. Tommy says she’s nailing it. Vida says MJ is there because of Sham’s sperm. At the dinner, Reza orders a martini. The bartender says they have no martini glasses, and Reza says he doesn’t do those anyway. A gay guy holding a martini glass is a little too cliché. MJ says it’s traditional to have a rehearsal the night before the wedding, but everyone in the party arrived today. They’re just having dinner, and figuring it out tomorrow.

Reza says this makes it serious. MJ introduces Vida to Terry and Jimmy, Tommy’s adoptive family when he emancipated himself. Terry says Jimmy brought him home. When she asked how long he wanted to stay, he said eight years. In his interview, Tommy says they’re family. They all saved his life at one point or another. Nothing makes him happier than them being there. He tells MJ that he has to tinkle (I hardly ever hear that term), so she can talk to her mom. Vida asks if MJ is ready. MJ says she doesn’t know if you’re ever ready. Vida asks if she’s happy that Tommy is going to be her husband, and make her a happy grandmother. MJ says she’s 100% sure loves him; not a shadow of a doubt. Vida says that’s very good. MJ appreciates her support, and wants to show more love and compassion to her. She asks if Vida gives her blessing. Vida says she does; she really does. And she’s sure Shams gives his blessing too. In her interview, MJ thanks Vida for being nurturing, and coming around four years later. It’s the best gift Vida could give her. Reza thanks Vida, saying MJ has been wanting it for so long. In MJ’s interview, she suggest always manipulating a blessing from your mom before the wedding. That way, you can hold it over her head if anything goes wrong. Reverse guilt. Tommy says the blessing is very Don Corleone. They eat.

MJ gets up to give a speech. She says, the best thing is that no matter what goes wrong tomorrow, everyone is there for them. Then she turns into Miss Barbara from Romper Room, saying, I see you, and you, and you, saying everyone’s name. Tommy yells, good speech, and says, next it will be, I see a dish, I see a glass. She tells him, eff off, and he applauds. In MJ’s interview, she says getting there was so hectic, things fell by the wayside, and she didn’t practice the speech. She’s realizing she’s not prepared for tomorrow.

After dinner, Kerry and MJ crash in the bridal suite. MJ is going with the tradition that the groom and bride don’t see each other before they get to the altar. They order breakfast from room service. MJ sees she missed a FaceTime call from Adam, and calls him. She tells him that she hasn’t seen her dress. He says most brides would have seen it already, and she says shoulda, coulda, woulda. Breakfast arrives, and MJ says, the sourdough looks good and ample. She hasn’t written her vows yet, and it’s eight hours until the wedding. She wants to go back to the house to get some stuff, take a shower, and have a swim. Kerry is worried about the time, and MJ says don’t tell her what to do.

Mona and some other girls are getting glammed up at her place. Nema says her place is perfectly central for a pre-game party. If you can get past it being all vegan. She’s a few blocks away from MJ’s wedding. Mona chides Nema for eating the snacks she put out for the girls.

MJ can’t wrap her head around why it would take eight hours to get into a dress. They get to the house, and she walks Toya, and goes for a swim. Kerry tells her to keep it moving; they have five hours. MJ says don’t tell her what to do on her wedding day. Best man Johnny calls, and MJ asks him to make sure Tommy isn’t blackout drunk when he walks down the aisle.

Tommy tells his groomsmen that he’s getting sh*t faced. Johnny says he promised MJ that Tommy wouldn’t get annihilated. Tommy says that’s a promise Johnny can’t keep. He’s putting drinks in his pockets. There’s an open bar, and he’s going to close them down.

Next time, a wedding tsunami has taken over everything, GG takes off her ring, and in true MJ fashion, she’s even late for her own wedding.

⚠ Next time is The Shahs finale as well. I forgot to mention that next Tuesday is the finale for The Haves and the Have Nots. Whatever a finale means anymore. It could be six months or six years until the next season.

🎃 A Happy Halloween to you, even if a little late!

Sacrifices had to be made because so did candy bags. It was Halloween on General Hospital, and I listened in a little. No Halloween can ever compare to when Faison and Obrecht were Beetlejuice and Heidi (or whatever), so moving on. The Real Housewives of Dallas also didn’t make the cut, although they got a brief mention. I’ll be back to my usual long-winded shenanigans with Thursdays shows. Without further ado…

Below Deck

Caroline’s foot is swollen and she’s over the two-faced bullsh*t. Chandler complains about crew mess being disgusting. He suggested everyone clean up after themselves. In her interview, Caroline says it’s a mind f*ck. People telling her they’re happy with her to her face, and then talking behind her back. She tells Kate she heard them talking. She says tries to respect others’ feelings, and sometimes she screws up. Kate tells Caroline that she was drunk, and everyone talks about what annoys them. In her interview, Kate says that’s real life. Caroline forgives her, and says it’s not an issue. She shows Kate and Josiah her swollen foot. When she leaves, Josiah tells Kate that he doesn’t even remember what they said.

Chandler is rattled. We flash back to the captain telling him that he wants a clear line of communication. Chandler says he needs to check everything everyone is doing from now on. Adrian tells Kate that she was on fire last night. Rhylee relays the message about the crew mess, saying whoever is on the schedule has to be on it. Kate says she’s been busy, and might take herself off the schedule for the rest of the charter. All she does all day is clean up and take care of others, so she’ll just keep doing it. In her interview, Rhylee says, Kate is used to being the bitch in charge, but she doesn’t care if Kate is a bitch or in charge. Boy, is she in for a reality check if she keeps that up. Chandler’s dad calls. He says he doesn’t think his dad would put up with what’s going on.

Kate sees Ashton cleaning the windows while wearing a harness. Joking around, she radios him, asking if she can ride on it when he’s done. Rhylee hears, and says she thought Kate was so busy. Ashton thinks Rhylee needs to sort out her attitude. She doesn’t know her place. Caroline tells Captain Lee about her foot. She wants to see a doctor, and he says, of course. She asks Kate to make an appointment. Kate asks her to fold laundry while sitting in the meantime, because there is no rest for the weary wicked.

Kate tells Adrian that calling him an alien is a compliment. He was offended, and she tells him to meditate on it. Rhylee tells Ross that she’s not irritated yet. Ashton asks to talk to her, and tells her that Kate is chief stew and outranks her. Don’t challenge her. Rhylee asks if he has any advice; is she just supposed to take it? He says, yes. Rhylee says she cares about rank, but doesn’t give a f*ck if someone wants to speak to her in that manner. She’s not sitting down like a dog. Ashton says he gave her advice. It’s up to her what she does with it.

The car comes for Caroline. Kate, Chandler, and Adrian are called to the wheelhouse for a preference sheet meeting. Charles Yim, the primary, invented a smart phone breathalyzer, and is bringing his girlfriend and some friends along. Kate says, new money. It’s more, bigger and faster, and impatient because it hasn’t had the luxuries yet. Swimming with stingrays is on their list (cool! I can’t wait!), along with a sandbar picnic. Kate thinks it will be a fun charter. Captain Lee does too. Kate frets about Caroline not coming back. She wants Caroline better, since her injury gives Kate more work, and she’s done enough laundry in her life. Everyone gets the boat ready. Adrian makes pizza and they get take out chine

Caroline returns, and we find out she had an infection, and the doctor gave her antibiotics and pain meds. She was told it was the nature of living there. A scratch or bite can become easily infected. Putting it on my list of nice place to visit, but. She’s trying not to be baby, but it really hurts. Kate tells her to have something to eat, ice her foot, and go to bed. Kate and Josiah do Caroline’s job. I think it might be a little easier on Kate with Josiah around. He actually gets the concept of yacht work. In her interview, Rhylee says it’s never been this difficult fitting in. She’s used to being in an authority role, and has to reign herself in. She’s not in charge, and has to accept it.

In his interview, Adrian says he started cooking when he was young. His dad owned a barbecue restaurant, and he worked there. He was a chubby kid. It was hard to stay skinny with barbecue around all the time. We see a picture of him as a kid. He tells Ashton that he doesn’t use recipes, and Ashton says, it’s an insane talent. Chandler says Adrian just feels it. Chandler tells Ashton that he can go over the deck crew game plan, but it’s usually the same routine.

Rhylee apologizes for how she spoke to Kate. In her interview, Kate says she loves an apology, especially an inauthentic one. That means they’re really swallowing their pride. I never thought of it that way. We see a Golden Retriever on the dock. Wth?

Chandler has a team meeting, and says they should expect everything off shore with the next charter. They’re interested in excursions to soak in the Tahitian culture. He wants the tender fully stocked. Ashton thinks the meeting had no substance. They still don’t know what’s going on. There needs to be a game plan, and there isn’t.

Josiah doesn’t want anyone injured, but at the same time, Caroline’s foot isn’t broken. Caroline goes out for a smoke. Everyone changes for the guests’ arrival. In Caroline’s interview, she’s confused about the dynamic between her and Chandler. He’s sweet, but not open. Who are you? Give her something.

The guests arrive and are given flower crowns. Selfies begin immediately. Josiah is already over it. Kate gives the tour. She thinks these guests will be high maintenance. Every time we see them, they’re either taking selfies or filming. Kate says they’re disgustingly obsessed with their phones and social media interaction, and I concur. She thinks it’s the next level of Darwin’s natural selection, and Darwin is coming for them.

Chandler tells Rhylee not to drag the fender across the deck. In his interview, Chandler says he’s told her dozens of times, and it’s frustrating. In Rhylee’s interview, she says Chandler is good at telling you what you do wrong, and never what you do right. She’s just trying to do her job. While I understand Chandler’s frustration, I’ve had bosses like that, and it’s counter-productive. Chandler tells her, work smart, not hard. The guests order drinks. Ashton gets that Chandler doesn’t like Rhylee, but he needs to set his emotions aside and be professional. Caroline has a hard time keeping up. The guests are getting annoyed because they’re waiting so long for their drinks. Kate asks Josiah to stick around. Caroline is getting flustered. The guests wait twenty-five minutes for their drinks. If that was a normal bar, I’d be pissed. Never mind a luxury yacht. Caroline apologizes.

Captain Lee is excited about the anchorage; it’s gorgeous. It’s just a slice of utopia. He asks for the tow line to be brought in, and they drop anchor. He described it perfectly. It doesn’t look real; like something out of a fantasy movie. A sun shower happens, and it makes me think of that song by Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band. True story. One time when I was in a bar in Greenwich Village, the friend I was with put a token in the jukebox by mistake. We wanted to play Cherchez La Femme, and instead, it played the flipside, Sunshower. And it kept doing it. At the end of the song, we would hold our breath, and when it played again, we’d die laughing. Finally, some chick went over and gave the jukebox a kick, and it moved along. Ashton is pissed because Chandler wanted everything out, and now they have to bring it back in again. These guests are ridiculous with their phones.

Lunch is served. Adrian visits the guests. In his interview, Ashton thinks it’s too bad the guests are so deeply into social media. Put your camera down, and appreciate the sunset. Charles says Adrian has skills. The guests get on the jet skis. Chandler asks to meet with Rhylee, and tells her that she’s going to be the late guy. He’s giving her a break now. She’s never done the slide, and he doesn’t want her in the way when they put it up. In Rhylee’s interview, she says she never gets a break when she really needs it. Kate tells Caroline that it’s a large boat, and they need three stews. In her interview, Kate says Caroline is useless, and she’s spending her time coddling her, and caring about her feelings and swollen ankle. She doesn’t care. She has work to do, and now she has extra work.

The slide is put up. The crew always hates it, because it takes forever and it’s awkward. It looks like a blast thought. The guests ask Chandler to take pictures. A lot of pictures. The master suite rings. Kate goes, and Charles answers the door naked. He asks for smoothies. In Kate’s interview, she says it’s not like he didn’t know she was coming. Captain Lee calls Chandler, and tells him to break down the slide. Kate delivers the smoothies and says, it’s naked smoothie time.

In Caroline’s interview, she says her foot is painful, but doesn’t know how to shut it down. Kate calls Chandler, but gets no response. The captain calls, and ditto. In his interview, Captain Lee says he thought he could change frequency arbitrarily – wrong. Caroline calls Chandler. The captain tells him to let someone know if he’s going to change frequencies. In the captain’s interview, he says it’s a safety issue. What if assistance is needed, and no one is answering the effing radio? Are you effing kidding me?

Flower crowns are donned for dinner. Kate wants to make it fun. The captain calls Chandler to the wheelhouse. Chandler apologizes, saying the deck crew was talking a lot, and he didn’t want piss off anyone else who needed the radio. Captain Lee says he has four guys he can’t talk to. There’s no reason not to be on one channel. In his interview, Chandler is disappointed in himself for letting the captain down. Keeping Captain Lee happy, and making sure the guests have fun are what he’s here for.

Caroline is afraid to ask Chandler for help; he’s always busy. He tells her not to give him sh*t for wanting to go to bed. In Chandler’s interview, he says, eff off. He just got chewed out by the captain. Leave him alone. Kate tells Ashton they’re going Tahitian, and asks if he can dance Polynesian style. In her interview, Kate thinks the guests are obsessed with their phones and social media. He needs to give them a Tahitian rumba. Caroline asks Ashton what it’s like to work so hard all day. She says all of the deck crew think what they do is more important than the interior.

In her interview, Caroline says she thought Chandler could help, and he has no reason not to, except he’s a d*ck. The appetizer involves a watermelon cloud. I have no idea what that is, but it sounds heavenly. Ashton says the last thing he feels like doing is stripping to his underwear, with a leaf covering his junk. Why him? Kate adjusts his costume, and puts a leaf crown on him, calling him a Tahitian king.

Ewww! Caroline finds a used condom on the nightstand. Joking around, she asks Ashton to clear off the nightstand, and he almost touches it. She grabs it with plastic bag. That is unbelievably disgusting and thoughtless. The guests as for a fishing expedition for the next day. Rhylee says, she’s a fisherman by trade, and it’s her time to shine. Caroline tells Kate there was a juicy condom on the nightstand. I am totally grossed out all over again. In Kate’s interview, she says, unless I was part of the party, I don’t want to clean up the party favors. Ha-ha! I love Kate. She’s wicked funny.

Ashton helps serve, adding Tahitian flavor. Rhylee tells a sleeping Chandler about the fishing trip. He says it will be him and Ashton going. In her interview, Rhylee says she’s an experienced fisherman, and he’s a pr*ck. She tells Ashton, who says he doesn’t know anything about fishing. In Ashton’s interview, he says it makes sense for Rhylee to go. Ross says if they don’t rest and recover, they’re going to start making mistakes. Ashton is pissed off.

Next time, sharks circle the boat, the stingray excursion, Ashton is looking forward to turning it up, and the captain hates babysitting.

Carlotta was missing. Because she was getting down and getting funky with Jahil in the studio. For a dead guy, he’s very active. In reality, she was sleeping in a diner. She got feisty when a waitress called the cops, and ended up arrested.

Megan told Noah that his music was good; like when he first started. He flirted with her, but she didn’t take the bait. Mateo borrowed money to feed his addiction, and promised Nina he’d fix it. Miss Bruce met with Carlotta’s potential backer, who wasn’t turning over a million dollar check without meeting with Carlotta.

Carlotta ended up in the psych ward, and said, anytime a Black woman does anything other than smile, they think she crazy. Ugh. That made me think about how strange men will tell a woman to smile on the street. Google that and see how many women hate it. Carlotta told the psychiatrist that she ended up in a coffee shop, and the next thing she knew, the sun came up before she did. She told the shrink to google her, but she already had. She’d seen an article about Carlotta’s public argument with Cassie, and another previous incident. Carlotta demanded to be let out, but the doctor put her in a 72-hour hold.

Take 3 remixed I Bring Me. Miss Bruce gave them the news about Carlotta, and told them to make sure to nail their performance tonight. He told Star make sure she could twerk without the baby falling out. Olivia wanted to keep her mind off of Bianca’s birthday, and Alex told her to stick around.

Maurice insisted that Noah was using Megan to try and get to him. Megan said he makes everything about him, and he said he still loved her. Nina told Mateo that Carlotta was found, but wouldn’t be able to be there for a while. Miss Bruce bonded some more with Bobby. He told Bobby about his bad experience growing up in the church, and said, Stevie Wonder can see more than church folk.

Cotton visited Carlotta, who told her that Cassie was the reason she was there. Cassie wanted Andy dead, and the bullet that hit her father was meant for him. Cassie killed her daddy. Carlotta couldn’t hold the lie any more.

Olivia took pictures of herself while holding up Alex’s clothes against herself. Star confronted her, saying she heard about what Olivia did with Alex’s solo. She told Olivia not to try it again. Olivia gave Star a veiled threat, and Star said if Olivia threatened her again, she’d be buried next to her dead sister. Star told Derek that Olivia was crazy.

Cotton told Cassie about Carlotta being in the psych ward. Cassie thought it might be good for Carlotta, since she’d been trippin’ lately. Mateo told Cassie that Take 3 wasn’t big enough for the festival, and he wanted Noah. Cassie told him to chill. Carlotta was her blood, and he’d better watch himself.

Star told Alex that Olivia was in her head. Miss Bruce gave Take 3 the bad news that they were out of the festival after Mateo found out about Carlotta. Simone went to Nina, saying she’d trusted her. Nina said Mateo was her husband; Simone was her artist. Alex went to Olivia, and said she had to respect Star or they couldn’t hang out. She suggested Olivia spend some time with her family. Olivia asked Alex to come along. Alex agreed, but you could tell she’s getting tired of this.

Cassie got in to see Carlotta using another name. Carlotta said she’d let the devil sit on her bed first, and told her to get out. Miss Bruce told Noah that he left Carlotta high and dry, while he was busy worrying about himself. Maurice wanted to celebrate with Magen, but she said, not tonight. Cassie stuck a gun in Maurice’s ribs at the club, trying to get Take 3’s gig back. He shrugged her off, and told her she needed to think about who was really running things.

Star asked Derek to find where Alex went. He called Olivia’s mother, and found out that it was Bianca’s mother, but not Olivia’s. Olivia wasn’t Bianca’s sister. She’d tried hurt Bianca, and her mother told them to stay away. Like a bad penny, Cassie turned up to visit Carlotta again. She showed Carlotta Take 3’s performance, and said, they killed it – for her. Carlotta said Cassie was the reason she was there; the blood dripping off her hands. She asked who Cassie was killing next, and Cassie said she didn’t kill Andy. She told Carlotta, let it go, and be the big sister that she was when daddy left. She didn’t really know him. He loved Carlotta more. Carlotta told her to go. Carlotta needed her on her A-game, so she could whoop Cassie’s ass. Her, and Maurice.

At Olivia’s mother’s house, some woman kept screeching at Olivia. Olivia told Alex it was her aunt. When Olivia left the room, Alex found a shrine to herself, and tried to get out.

The investor told Mateo his show was legit, and he’d have access to the funds right away. Nina said, no he wouldn’t. They were to be put in escrow until Carlotta came back. Carlotta was released, but the doctor suggested she seek help. Carlotta told her about Jahil, saying he was the only person who really knew her, inside and out. He was the only person she let in. She told the doctor that she has anger. Cassie wants to compete with her, but had no idea what Carlotta did for her. Carlotta always took it, and Cassie thought her daddy loved Carlotta more, but it wasn’t love. The doctor told Carlotta that she had to deal with the pain. It wasn’t selfish; it was freedom. Preach it, sister!

Wielding a baseball bat, Olivia told Alex that she wanted to be friends, but Alex listened to bitch Star. Bianca was really a girl she went to high school with, who never paid attention to her. She said people like Alex were never friends with people like her. She wanted to know what it was like to be famous and be seen. Her life would be different if she could be seen. Alex asked if what she wanted was to be seen like this, as the cops pulled up. Alex told Olivia that she would explain to the cops, and Olivia said she wouldn’t have to, and raised the bat.

I guess they got inside in time, because Alex seemed fine. Star and Simone were there to get her home. Carlotta also came home, and told them that they had it together, and should be able to handle things while she was gone. She was leaving for a retreat in Jamaica. She’d been holding in things she needed to deal with. She apologized to Cotton for not telling her sooner. She made Cotton promise she wouldn’t do anything. She couldn’t protect Cotton if she wasn’t there. Cotton said, I got you.

Simone told Alex not to push down her feelings. She cared about Bianca, but it wasn’t her fault. She told Alex, get off the plane. She was alive; act like it. Star said they had an album to make.

Miss Bruce met Bobby at the church. He felt stuck, and said the strongest woman he knew found healing. He had to find it too. Some Sundays, he was still that little boy praying to be normal.

Noah told Megan that he got everything he asked for, but there was one more thing. Then he kissed her.

Miss Bruce sang a beautiful rendition of Jesus Loves Me. Carlotta asked Jahil for help, put on his hat, and thanked him. We heard Jahil say goodbye, and the studio was empty. Bobby said, and yet we rise, and Miss Bruce said, I suppose we do.

Alex apologized to Derek for not believing him. Star called them, and told them to get online. They saw a gossip headline saying, Like father, like daughter. Alex Crane sex tape leaked. Alex remembered Olivia said she’d been watching her for a while. She smashed the frame and found the camera.

Next time, I wasn’t really paying attention, but Star tussles with someone more famous than her during a panel interview.

✂ While Queen Latifah wore some beautiful natural braids, and also had a nice, long side swept ‘do in auburn with dark roots, my vote for best hair this week goes to Miss Lawrence. Loved the bowl cut in brown with a blonde streak on the side.

🐮 I did watch The Real Housewives of Dallas, but didn’t take notes. Not much happened anyway. Cary invited the girls to Copenhagen. No surprise, Stephanie didn’t know where that was. Stephanie and Travis renewed their vows, with Brandi and Cary being the only Wives in attendance. The rest was more of the same about the alcoholic stuff. Next time though, there’s a big fight, and Stephanie needs tequila and a hug.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

A mini version of the usual blow-by-blow commentary. I’ll be back to being long-winded after Halloween. Hopefully, it’s not too convoluted and I didn’t change tense. Too often anyway.

General Hospital

Sonny got what he needed to go up against Margaux, but needed to figure out the best way to use it. Sam wondered what Margaux really knew, and Sonny said parents go to their graves with their kids believing illusions.

Britt asked if she would get sprung if she betrayed her mother; the one who bore and raised her, and turned her into the woman she is today. Finn said what Britt was, was incarcerated. Britt said it was a tall order, but tell her more.

Chase saw Willow in the hospital parking lot, and asked her to step out of her car.

Lulu saw Michael at The Floating Rib and joined him. She said he was obviously not fine.

Laura and Carly went to the hospital, but Laura couldn’t find her husband. She told Carly that she was impressed at how she handled Ferncliff. Carly said it was good to go back with power. Carly said she’s glad she didn’t miss Mary Pat getting fired. Even though Laura had never met Mary Pat, she still found it gratifying. Carly was somewhat distressed about being close to seeing her Ferncliff neighbor, but Laura told her if they wanted to have an impact, they’d have to follow procedure. Carly said, procedure can hide a multitude of sins, and she was sure she wasn’t the only person who’s suffered.

Not-Doc saw Mary Pat at The Floating Rib. She said she knew they hadn’t seen the last of each other yet, but he said that day was fast approaching.

Sonny told Jason and Sam the letter suggested plenty, but didn’t prove anything. Jason said it would still blindside Margaux, and Sonny said, or liberate her. He told Jason, the most dangerous enemy is one with nothing to lose.

Laura told Carly that they could pressure Ned into doing a full investigation. They would see how far Ferncliff fell from being a rehabilitation center. Carly said there were no horror movies as scary as Ferncliff was. She couldn’t forget her neighbor’s screaming, crying, and endless pounding on the wall. She wanted concrete answers.

Mary Pat asked if not-Doc thought she was a tool he could use and forget about. I laughed, and said, no, she’s just a tool. Not-Doc said he had nothing but respect for her, but Mary Pat wasn’t feeling it. Not-Doc wanted to discuss things more privately, so they could come to terms as quickly and quietly as possible. He suggested they meet at the pier. When she complained there were no drinks at the pier, he swiped a bottle of tequila at the bar, telling her that he knew the owners. They let him get away with murder.

Michael told Lulu that he had things buried deep, and she wondered if that was to keep them from others or himself. Peter came to meet Lulu, and Michael said he had a thing to go to. Peter told Lulu that he couldn’t imagine losing a son. He showed her a spreadsheet, showing The Invader’s numbers being on the rise. He said it was in no small part due to her. The public couldn’t get enough of her take on the gruesome business of Ryan’s murder spree. Then he said he was spiking her latest installment, confusing Lulu and myself.

Chase showed Willow his ID, and she verified it with the PCPD.

Anna said she wanted Britt to lure Obrecht to Port Charles, where the WSB would take her into custody. Her release was contingent on her cooperation; or she could stay there. Britt said she had a sweet gig in the laundry room and wanted a better offer. She wanted a magic trick.

Britt said she wanted Emma to disappear. She’d poisoned Patrick against her. She told Finn not to be fooled by Emma. Anna said nothing, and Brit said she’d make a helluva poker player. She was just kidding, but they’d have to fatten the purse. She wanted her medical license reinstated, but Anna said no way was she allowing an embryo stealing quack to practice medicine. Britt said Rocco was a stupid name, and Ben was better. Finn admitted he liked the name Ben. Anna was over it, and said she made the offer. Britt could either stay or sleep in a comfortable bed. Britt agreed, but had one more condition that wasn’t negotiable.

Britt chowed down at The Floating Rib.

Sonny said Jeanette’s letters could be as damaging to him. Jason said he was never mentioned, but Sonny said there could be others. Jason had to agree that there could be more. Maybe Jeanette saved the details and hid them away somewhere. Sam thought maybe Sonny shouldn’t do anything; Margaux didn’t have anything on him. Sonny said she’d lock him up for jaywalking, and use his family to do it.

Lulu wondered why Peter didn’t want to publish the next installment. He said it was the subject he was wrestling with. He wasn’t sure the readers would be interested in a philosophical debate on the nature of evil. Lulu said she thought he’d like it.

Laura told Carly she’s doing what she needs to in order to come to terms with the trauma. Carly wanted her time there to mean something. Laura supported that, but Carly wasn’t sure she could trust her own memory because of the drugs they pumped into her. At one point thought saw her neighbor, and thought he was… She flashed back to seeing Ryan in the hallway.

At the pier, not-Doc insisted he cared what happened to Mary Pat. Mary Pat thought she deserved a merit award, saying she was a good soldier. She was loyal, and didn’t question him. She kept his secret. Now, she was the one out on her behind, and he was sitting pretty. It wasn’t fair. He pointed out that he wasn’t the one who tortured patients, but she thought torture was an overused word. He said it still meant something to him. She wondered if his reputation would survive if the world learned he was hiding a maniac. If she called The Invader, life as he knew it would be over. He said, not just his.

Chase told Willow that she was parked in a spot designated for authorized vehicles. She told him she was preoccupied, and he said she was asleep. She asked if that was illegal, and he said it was when you’re drunk. She told him that she was taking a moment, and wasn’t drunk. He made her walk a straight line anyway, then told her to move her car, but it wouldn’t start.

Laura asked Carly who she thought it was, but Carly says it couldn’t have been him. Michael joined them, and Laura said she was going to check Doc’s office again. She promised Carly that they’d fix the problem with Ferncliff.

Not-Doc told Mary Pat that they both had in an interest in being discreet about his brother’s presence. She didn’t know what she had to lose. He was housing his long lost serial killer brother under false pretenses. He said Ryan’s urges could be sparked, but she said he was locked up. It wasn’t like he could hurt anyone.

Sonny said Margaux pushed Carly into Ferncliff, hassled Mike, and buried her father next to Morgan. She was already after Kristina and Michael; who was next? Avery? Sam said Margaux could either send her mom to prison or back off. Jason said if she chose to cover it up, they had her.

Peter asked Lulu why she thought he’d have a specific interest in the topic. Because there wasn’t a worse test case than him being Faison’s son? She says he’s proof evil doesn’t necessarily beget evil. A good person can come from a bad upbringing. It doesn’t excuse what he did to Jason, but he has a good heart and a conscience. He asked if her hypothesis was that a moral compass came from upbringing or was biological, but she said she needs more data. She saw Britt, and said, hell no.

Finn brought a margarita pitcher to Britt’s table, telling her there didn’t have strawberry. She said the deal was off. Britt was just full of fun today. Lulu came over, and poured the entire pitcher on her head. There was nearly a melee, but Peter and Finn broke it up. Lulu was pissed that she wasn’t notified. Peter wondered what on earth was going on, and Lulu introduced him to his sister.

Not-Doc told Mary Pat that his brother was her patient too. He’s tried to rehabilitate him to stand trial. Mary Pat said she’d been at his side, making sure his needs were met. Laura calls, but not-Doc ignored it, telling Mary Pat that she was more important. Laura left a message that she had a lot to tell him.

Carly told Michael that she was holding Ferncliff accountable, and he was proud of her. He said he should take a page from her book. She asked if he meant diving into an impossible situation without a plan or thinking about the consequences, but he said more like facing things head-on. Margaux was chatting him up, and reminded him that Sonny killed AJ, asking how he could live with that.

Sonny said Margaux built her world around her father, and he wouldn’t want to be Jeanette. Sam though it seemed like he almost admired Margaux, but he said he gets it. He took a little girl’s father away. Skully gave the order, and Jeanette started the ball rolling, but he pulled the trigger. Jason said Margaux was coming after Sonny’s family, and Sonny says that’s why she had to be stopped. He thanked them for helping get the truth. Jason asked what the plan was, but Sonny said he’d take it from there.

Britt asked Peter if it was true that he held Jason captive for five years, then turned him loose to eliminate their father. He told her it was true, and she called him a genius. He asked if she was really Obrecht’s daughter, and she said when it was convenient. He told her about Obrecht tying him to a bed in a cabin and leaving him to almost burn to death. She asked him to imagine being raised by that. He suggested they get together to compare notes, and she thought lunch would be good. He noticed her angle monitor, and asked Anna why a WSB agent was chaperoning a convicted criminal. He assumed the search for Obrecht came up empty. Anna asked him to put a muzzle on Lulu. She was bringing Obrecht in.

Despite Chase’s help, Willow’s car still wouldn’t start. Lulu came along and told Chase that Willow was Charlotte’s teacher. She wondered what was happening, and Willow explained she was parked inappropriately, and was the perp. Lulu asked why she was at the hospital, and she said she was visiting a friend. Lulu messed around with the engine, and told Chase to have her try it again. It started, and Lulu told him that she was her father’s daughter. He could start a car without a battery. She also mentioned that Willow was single.

Mary Pat told not-Doc that he could swing a job for her at GH. Something with a desk. She could use some income in the meantime though, inferring that he was a wealthy psychiatrist who had money to burn. And even if he didn’t, he could find it. She was sure he’d do anything to make sure his brother got the care he needed. Not-Doc needed her to understand something. She earned something to tide her over, but once he got her a job, they were done. She said, maybe; maybe not. Who knew what the future would bring.

Sam thought Sonny couldn’t just show up, and Jason said once Jeanette found out what happened, she could cause problems. Sonny said Margaux was going to find out her father wasn’t as innocent as she thought, and her parents’ marriage wasn’t a happy one. He believed when she found out her whole past was a lie, she’d lose her motive to come after him.

Michael told Carly that he shot Margaux down. She crossed the line, and he threatened a full investigation. Carly was pretty pissed that Margaux brought up AJ after everything Michael’s been dealing with. He asked if he was really dealing with it. He’s going through the motions of grieving, throwing himself into his work, and saying it’s under control. She tells him there’s no wrong way to grieve, but he thinks he found one. He told her that he’s not fine; just the opposite, and thinks of Jonah all the time. He had to stop pretending he’s okay.

Anna told Peter that she wanted it kept out of the paper, and explained the deal with Britt to him. She thought she could trust Britt, since the deal was beneficial to her. If she could get Obrecht behind bars, it would ensure Peter a measure of safety. She told him that when she got Obrecht, she’d give The Invader an exclusive deal.

Britt asked Finn what was up with him and Anna, but he said it was none of her business. She asked if he knew about Anna and her father, and he said he knew how conception worked. She said it was a tough image to get out of your head. When Anna came back, Britt said she wanted a long, hot shower, and Anna informed Britt that she’d be staying with her.

Jason thought maybe he should confront Margaux. Sonny said Jason was detached, and it made sense, but he was the one going. He’s the one she wanted; they were just collateral damage. He had to face her and confront her with the truth. Out in the hall, Sonny called Margaux, and said it was time they had it out – just the two of them.

Carly told Michael it was hard to confront feelings, but he had his family by his side. He said if he was being honest, he’d feel like she wanted him to be okay so badly, he’d pretend to be okay so she wasn’t disappointed. Carly wished it didn’t make sense, but it did. She asked where he was going to get help from, and he showed her the pamphlet about the bereavement group, and said, from people going through the same thing.

Chase sees the same pamphlet in Willow’s car. She didn’t want to discuss it, and he told her it was nothing to be ashamed of. But if she didn’t want her business out there, keep it out of sight. She covered it up.

Willow went into the meeting of the bereavement group. Michael followed.

Laura told Lulu that they left Ferncliff with more questions than answers. Lulu said she’d had a long talk with Doc, and Laura asked if he seemed okay. Lulu told her that she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

Not-Doc wanted to make himself clear to Mary Pat. Once she was on her feet, their association was over. Mary Pat thought that was short-sighted, and said there was no expiration date on partnerships. She said he didn’t know what the future might hold. She might call on him for his assistance. Her keeping his secret was worth that much. She tossed the tequila in the river, and walked away. Not-Doc spied a metal, pointed tool for opening crates. He pulled it out, looked at the pointed end, and said, hello.

Next time, Ava tells someone they messed with the wrong woman, Peter asks Maxie to a fundraiser, and not-Doc sees Felicia, saying it must be his lucky day.

The Haves and The Have Nots

David had gone into cardiac arrest. Justin was there, bugging Jeffrey, who finally told him, sit down and shut up. I applauded. David was taken to surgery.

The FBI arrested Veronica’s bomb dude for attempted murder. I guess Erica didn’t count?

Justin tried being his version of nice to Jeffrey, but Jeffrey wasn’t having it. He slapped the drink Justin offered him out of Justin’s hand. Justin said Jeffrey just wanted to be with that bitch nurse, referring to Madison, and Jeffrey said they were done. Jeffrey said it was because of Justin’s own choices, but Justin whined that Jeffrey did this. Jeffrey told him to get his ass out. Justin said Jeffrey didn’t know him, and Jeffrey said the problem was that he did know Justin, and they were through. Justin said he’d wait at their apartment, and acted delusional – i.e. normal for him.

Benny went to see Candace at the hotel, and told her that he was mad as hell. She told him, get in line. She was packing, but said she didn’t have enough money to get very far. She knew he didn’t sign the account transfer papers, but wouldn’t tell him how she knew. Benny told her that she had to stop lying, and she said once she got the money thing taken care of, she was getting out of the business. She suggested they apply for a loan, using the money in the account as collateral. She swore she wouldn’t send anyone else after Hanna.

After Benny left, Landon arrived with a dress for Candace to wear on her date with Charles. He told her she wasn’t leaving. There would be a car coming to take her to a restaurant where she was going to meet him. There would be reporters, and some questions were dicey, but they had them covered. She told him that he couldn’t force her to go, but he said she was chosen. Period. It didn’t matter what she wanted. He told her a hypothetical story about a woman The Committee wanted – the ones called the Kingmakers. Charles is a package, put together by people who want to see him in the Whitehouse. He tells her that they called in favors, and the woman was cleaned up, but still said no. Candace asked what happened. He told her to guess, since he was there with her. He told her to get dressed, be there, and don’t make Charles wait.

Bomb dude called Veronica, and told her that he’d gotten arrested. She suggested he call someone else. She couldn’t help him. He told the FBI guys that she paid him to plant the bomb, but hadn’t given him the money yet. They asked if he did it out of the kindness of his heart. He insisted that she was going to pay him, but they weren’t buying it. Still, they decided to pick her up for domestic terrorism. One guy thought it was risky, but the head guy said they could at least see how good she is. This was confusing, since it didn’t seem like they believed bomb dude.

Hanna told Derrick that he made her feel better, and he said she deserved happiness after all she’d been through. He told her he was taking her for two weeks in the Bahamas – on him. She noted that there was only one room with one king-sized bed, and told him that she was strong, not dead. They made out on the couch.

The doctor explained to Jeffrey that David got an infection from the stress on his heart, but he’d recover. Madison was concerned about the domestic violence in Jeffrey’s life, meaning Justin. He wanted Jeffrey to do something before it was too late, but Jeffrey insisted everything was okay.

Hotel manager Roderick called Kathryn. Jim wondered who was calling, since no one calls her because she has no social life. She told him to stay away from her phone. Roderick wanted to see her, and she pretended to schedule a business meeting. When Jim asked who it was, Kathryn told him it was no one, since no one calls her.

Wyatt wanted to get out of the house, saying he was fine now, but Jim wasn’t fooled, and told him, deal with it. Wyatt insisted Jim couldn’t keep him there, but Jim said he had a court order. Wyatt called George, pretending he had more information for his statement. George told him to come down to the office, but Wyatt said he couldn’t because of Jim’s court order. George said he’d get back to Wyatt. Wyatt told Jim to keep him there and see what happens. Jim told Kathryn that he had it under control, but she was like, yeah, right.

Wyatt wasn’t the only one who wanted out. So did David. Jeffrey told him that he couldn’t leave the hospital yet, and David asked if Jeffrey had gone through Erica’s things. Jeffrey said he hadn’t had a chance, since he’d been with David the whole time. He told David that he didn’t want to lose him, and not to scare him like that again. David said, she’s not going to win, and begged Jeffrey to find the information regarding Erica. Jeffrey asked Madison if he wanted to come along to David’s house.

Two FBI guys were waiting for Veronica when she got home; the housekeeper let them in. She told them that she had nothing to say, but head FBI guy said he begged to differ. He wanted her to come to the station, but she said she didn’t have to unless she was being arrested. He told her it was in regard to domestic terrorism, but she said she wasn’t going. Someone should have prepped him on who he was going to talk to. He said, someone did. She told him if he wasn’t arresting her, get out. They left, and she yelled at mysterious housekeeper Alice, who we never see.

Candace ended up meeting Charles. I was kind of meh on the dress, but it had a fabulous neckline. Charles thought she looked stunning. She told him that she was forced to be there. He said he lets his team do what they do, but maybe it was a bad idea, and they should go their separate ways after they enjoy the meal. She asked what would happen if she just left, and he told her that she was free to go. She asked if there wouldn’t be consequences, and says she was told about the other girl who said no. He asks, what happened? and she said she didn’t know, but it wasn’t good. He told her if she wasn’t afraid, go ahead and go.

Madison was impressed with David’s house. Jeffrey asked if Madison wanted to go upstairs; he had to look for something. Jeffrey thanked Madison for helping his dad, and also helping keep him calm. He found Erica’s address book, looked inside, and said, what the hell? Damn. Madison asked if he was okay, and Jeffrey said he had something to confess. He had a crush on Madison when they were in school together. Madison was surprised, since Jeffrey never said anything, and Jeffrey said, no one did. No one was out. Jeffrey told Madison he had problems with Bobby Safer. He harassed them both. Jeffrey wondered what happened to Bobby, and Madison said he was probably in prison. They stared at each other for a while, and Madison asked if Jeffrey found what he was looking for. Jeffrey kissed him.

You know it couldn’t just end there. Behind them, Veronica looked into the room, and said, who the hell is this?

Next time, Benny asks if Hanna is going to put him out, Candace asks Charles if he still wants her, and Kathryn gets busy with Roderick.

🏆 Honorable Mention…

Last week, I decided to forego Flipping Out to take a look at Ready To Love, which follows The Haves and The Have Nots. It’s a new matchmaking show that’s both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I liked it, and especially enjoyed the lament of a contestant who was a pastor. The ladies were concerned they’d have to live up to some kind of holy expectations, when really, he was just a regular guy. You can read about it here:

🙏 Why, Lord, Why?

I’m going to have to watch Channel Zero: The Dream Door on the weekend On Demand. While I’m seriously pressed for time, I keep forgetting it’s on, since previous seasons have aired weekly. It’s on at 11 pm, which avoids conflict for most viewers, but I can’t imagine their ratings are as good this time around. I did catch Saturday night’s episode, and it looked really creepy.

❓ Who Knows?

You’ll definitely get a full Deck – the only show I was able to give full attention to – tomorrow, but other than that, I’m not sure what All Hallows’ Eve will bring. Besides extra calories.

🔮 Not Scary, But…

It has a bit of a witchy title. I also love this band. They have an interesting catalog of music. Although, sadly, their lead singer, Bradley Nowell passed away before they peaked. I don’t think he would have cared though.

General Hospital

Sam says she tried to forget, and tell herself she could live without him. But then when she sees him, even just for a moment, nothing else matters. Jason says he picked up the phone a dozen times, but couldn’t call. Him, who’s afraid of nobody and nothing. He was too afraid to say it out loud. Sam and Jason are going through the letters, and were just thinking out loud. So far, they’ve found noting helpful. Jason says he’s looking for something to figure out if Marino was in deeper than Margaux wants to believe. If they find some dirt she doesn’t want public, it might get her to back off of Sonny.

Finn says he and Anna never made it to Detroit. It’s the one place they’ve both never been. He suggests they take a trip now, unless she has a location on Obrecht. It’s their chance for a romantic getaway. She says, to Detroit? They discuss Avallon (France), but she says they’re not going.

Sonny and Michael are at The Floating Rib. Sonny says he’d love to spend more time with Michael, and asks how he’s doing. Michael says he’s okay. He’s trying not to isolate, but it’s tempting. Whenever that happens Sonny’s voice comes into his head. He says he’s trying, and Sonny says that’s all he can do.

Jordan and Curtis discuss wedding plans at another table. She says the hardest part is the seating chart. World War III could break out unless they focus. Curtis is trying not to focus on Aunt Stella’s boycott of the wedding.

Not-Doc walks through the hall at GH. He tells someone on the phone that he has to cancel because of an emergency, and his will office reschedule. He calls Laura, and leaves a message. He wishes she’d run her Ferncliff plan by him first. He’s on his way. Stella says she’s been looking for him. He says he’s in a rush, but she says, too bad. She has a bone to pick with him.

At Ferncliff, Laura asks if Carly is all right. Carly says this place tried to break her, but it didn’t. It might have succeeded if she hadn’t gotten out. She wants to see the patient who was next door to her, but Kay says she’s not authorized to open patient doors. Laura says she won’t leave until the door is opened. Kay leaves, and Laura asks Carly if she’s sure, but Carly wants to see it. He’s probably dangerous, but he was the only contact she had. She wants to finally put a face to the scream. She looks into the room, and I wonder why she can’t see him through the door window.

Anna can tell Finn is disappointed. He says he had visions of strolling on cobblestone streets and sleeping in late. She say she’d love to escape to Provence, but there’s something more mundane she has to do. They’re at the prison visitor entrance.

Sam says Jeanette and Skully were having an affair for years. She wonders how Jeanette got the letters she wrote to him, and Jason says maybe he had them returned to her after he died. Sam says, love makes you do crazy things, and they give each other a look. They need something to tie Martino to Skully. Jason says Martino laundered money himself on orders from Skully. If they can prove collusion, it would be a huge hit to Margaux’s reputation. Sam says, the DA having ties to organized crime; she almost feels sorry for her. Margaux created a fairytale about her father, and she’s going to find out it’s all lies. It’s a tough pill to swallow. Jason says she deserves what’s coming, and Sam reminds him she said almost. Jason says, Margaux is so obviously willing use anyone and everyone to get what she wants. Mike, Carly, Drew, Kristina. Sam says, she’s targeting everyone in Sonny’s life one by one. She wonders who’s next.

Sonny tells Michael that he knows how hard it is to keep going after you lose someone. The hard part is whether to shut down or reach out. He wishes he could tell Michael it will end, but grief has no time table. The only way out is through. It’s how you deal with it. If he wants to get busy with work, it’s okay. It’s all part of the process. Margaux walks in and sees them. Michael asks what he should know about Charlie’s Pub. Sonny says the DA wants his head, and she’s not going to stop until she gets it.

Curtis asks Jordan, what happened with the search for Marcus? She says, it’s a dead end. He’s been married more than thirty years. Curtis says, so much for pining for Aunt Stella.

Stella tells not-Doc that he still hasn’t signed the form she asked for days ago. He says he’s swamped, but she says that doesn’t mean he can’t deliver. He tells her, first thing tomorrow, but she says, now. Without it, the patient won’t get the care they need. She says she’ll wait, and he stomps off.

Carly looks in the patient’s door, and sees an empty room, answering my question. She says, no one is in there. The patient must be having treatment. Laura says, or they were discharged – or worse. Carly thinks Kay would have told them. She hopes whatever it is, it’s legitimate and with his consent. We see inside the room, and Doc is sitting under the door window, out of it.

Jason tells Sam that Margaux’s father made his own choices. The consequences should be his problem, not hers. Sam wonders how would he have known she’d spend her life trying to figure things out, and Jason says, you can put things on your kids without meaning to. Sam says they’re not talking about the DA, are they? Jason tells her, if something happens to him, he doesn’t want Danny think he was some innocent. His work is his choice, and he’s prepared to assume the risk. Sam says she wouldn’t tell him the details, but she would never lie. Jason says, even if it’s easier? and Sam says she’ll just tell Danny they were Jason’s choices in the life he had before Danny was born. Jason says, choices can’t be unmade, and Sam tells him it won’t be easy, but it beats the alternative. Look at Oscar. She understands why Kim was keeping him in the dark, but in the end the lies caused damage. Jason says they’re on the same page, and she says, as long as he does the same for her; tell the truth. Jason says he will, that she’s the most amazing person he’s ever met, and Danny hit the lottery with her for a mom. Sam says she’s talking honesty.

Michael tells Sonny it’s clear his grandfather had something to do with the explosion. Is there anything he can do on his end? Sonny thinks Mike is okay; it’s just how the DA went after him. Michael says, even though he has Alzheimer’s? and Sonny says, she doesn’t care. The body turned out to be her father, and she’s determined to find out how he died. She’s convinced Sonny did something. Michael asks if she thinks his grandfather had something to do with it. Sonny nods, and says, or he’s covering. Michael asks if there’s anything for her to find out, and Sonny says, not that he knows of, but she’s not giving up. She even hassled Kristina. Michael says Kristina had texted that she wanted to talk to him. Sonny says Margaux has no way to get him, and tells Michael not to worry, but don’t be surprised if she comes knocking at his door. Michael hopes she does.

Back in her old room at Ferncliff, Carly says, a new bed, fresh paint, new furniture. Laura asks what was there before, and Carly says, not a lot. Laura thinks it must have been terrible, and Carly says she doesn’t miss this place. She flashes back to telling Doc about the Morse code, and him advising her not to engage. She knocks on the wall, and says that’s how she and the patient communicated, explaining that she used an app on the phone Jason snuck in. They guy wanted her help. She thinks about him so much. She wonders who he is, and what he did to get in there. She knocks again, and Doc hears. Carly wishes she could tell him. Mary Pat walks in with a box of her belongings, and says, going down Memory Lane, Caroline? Why is she allowed to wander around? Some maximum security.

Jason tells Sam that he never wants his kids to follow hsi path, but he’s already set an example as a father. Sam says parenting is hard. It changes the way you make choices. She’s already having nightmares about Scout getting into relationships. She doesn’t know how to guide her. There’s a tightrope between parenting and controlling. They go back to at the letters, and Jason says, bingo! He reads, the only way to be together is if Vincent is gone. He told her that he’d do anything for her, and if he meant it, prove it. Sam rubs her hands together, and gives Jason the phone.

Jason texts Sonny, saying he’s with Sam, and wants him to come by. Michael says he knows Jason is helping him with the DA, and Sonny says, gotta go. He leaves, and the bartender brings Michael another drink sent from Margaux. She asks if the seat opposite him is taken.

In the visiting room, Finn says Britt zeroed in on Patrick like a missile, and Anna tells him, the lies she planted had a ripple effect. She’s a treacherous, awful person. Finn says they should definitely spring her then. Anna says there is something about her that’s sane-ish, unlike her mother. Obrecht won’t let go of the idea that Peter is responsible for Nathan’s death. The only way going Peter is going to be safe is if Obrecht is behind bars.

Michael tells Margaux that he was just leaving. She introduces herself, and holds out her hand. He doesn’t take it, saying, he knows who she is. He doesn’t have a memory problem. She sent his mother to Ferncliff for something she didn’t do, after she forced his sister to paint her as a lunatic. Margaux says she didn’t know, but he says all she cares about is taking out Sonny. She says Sonny killed her father. Michael says he doesn’t know anything about that. She says, sure he does. Sonny killed his father too.

Carly asks if Mary Pat has all her things. Mary Pat says she does, but she has no place to put them. Her rent was raised 300%, and she can no longer afford her apartment. Carly says, bummer; sad. Mary Pat says it’s thanks to Carly’s petty revenge. Carly says she warned Mary Pat before she pumped her so full of drugs, she didn’t know her name. She made it clear that Mary Pat had a choice. She made the wrong one, and these are the consequences. Mary Pat supposes this is why her credit cards were all canceled. Carly says she told Mary Pat that she wasn’t like others. She’s not helpless, and wasn’t going to be victim to Mary Pat’s personal power trip. She said she had a long reach, and now Mary Pat is paying the price for ignoring her. Mary Pat says Carly thinks she knows everything, but she doesn’t. Carly does have a question. The patient next door isn’t in there. Mary Pat says, he’s not? Carly asks, what happened? and not-Doc runs in, asking what they’re doing there.

Not-Doc says he thought Mary Pat had been dismissed, and she says after nineteen years of dedicated service. She followed the guidelines she was given, and kept confidences. Carly tells him to get her out. Mary Pat says she’s leaving. It’s margarita night at The Floating Rib. She tells Carly, it’s been real, and Carly says, it’s been something. Mary Pat leaves, and not-Doc says if he’s known they were coming out on a fact-finding mission, he would have urged caution. He can’t have the next mayor running that kind of risk. If something happened, he’d never forgive himself. He hugs Laura.

Anna tells Finn that Obrecht is capable of anything. Although Britt is a schemer, she’s no threat. Anna doesn’t think she’s capable of physically hurting someone. She thinks she can suck it up and deal with Britt. The guards bring Britt in, and she says it’s lovely to see Anna.

Jordan asks Curtis if they can put certain people at neighboring tables, and they won’t kill each other. Curtis says if they try, he’ll throw them overboard. Stella comes in, and Jordan tells her that they’re doing seating arrangements. Stella says, the dreaded seating chart. Jordan says they’re still holding a place for her. Curtis hopes she’ll come, but Stella says she can’t.

Michael says Margaux will sink to any level. She asks if she got the facts wrong. Did Sonny not kill his father? Michael says, if she knew the facts, she know there were extreme extenuating circumstances. He’s not talking about it to her, and she says she understands. He asks if this is the part where they cry on one another’s shoulders and commiserate. Then he helps her. It’s not a good plan, and his father isn’t the one she should worry about.

Sam wonders why Jeanette would keep over thirty years of incriminating evidence. Jason thinks she was probably confident they got away with it. Sonny arrives, and asks if they found something. Sam says Jeanette was definitely having an affair with Skully. Jason says in one of her letter, she asked Skully to get rid of Marino. Sonny says, Margaux’s mother is responsible for the hit. He’ll be damned.

Not-Doc says they’re not supposed to engage with the patients. Carly says she doesn’t care what he’s done, or how far gone he is, no one deserves to be treated like that. Not-Doc agrees, but reminds her that it’s a wing for the criminally insane. The only reason she was there was because of the lack of space. Kay comes back, saying they’re not allowed any contact, and not-Doc says it’s a tough place, and rules need to be followed. Kay asks for their IDs, and not-Doc says he needs to get back to GH. The next time, don’t take the matter into their own hands, or at least give him a heads up. He leaves, and Carly insists on seeing inside the room. Kay says they can’t do it, but Carly says she’ll call her lawyer for a favor, since she has a pending lawsuit with Ferncliff. She says Mary Pat was in and out of patient’s rooms all day for any or no reason, Open the damn door now.

Britt asks who we have here, and Anna introduces Finn. Britt asks if he’s come to give her a physical, but he says he’s consulting. She says, bummer (word of the day). She tells him she’s a doctor too. Anna says it’s getting late, and Britt accuses her of being a buzzkill. She asks what business she and Anna have, and Anna asks what Britt last spoke to her mother. Britt says over a month ago; not since Nathan’s death. Ann is sorry about her brother. Britt thanks her, and says she heard she’s gained a family member. Anna says, Peter, and Britt says, no more Henrik? Anna says, he wanted to distance himself from father, and Britt says, don’t we all? She asks why her brother isn’t visiting, and Finn says, it’s hard when you’re being held hostage. Britt says her mom is up to her old tricks. Anna asks if Britt would like to meet him in more pleasant surroundings, like the MetroCourt. Britt tells her to make reservations for a few years from now, but Anna says what if she could make it happen soon?

Stella tells Jordan, for the record, she doesn’t think Jordan would do to Curtis what she did to Thomas. She understands that Jordan is remorseful. But it’s so much pain and loss, and when she thinks of that, she thinks of Jordan. Jordan asks if she can’t get past it, and Stella says she would if she could. Jordan gets it. Stella has every right to feel that way. Curtis says they’re going through with it, with or without her. Stella says she’s not about hoping it won’t happen, but she’s being honest with herself. A guest should approve of the marriage, honor the couple, and share in their joy. She can’t do that, and can’t forget who won’t be there and why. Jordan tells her, up until the minute they say I do, there will be a chair waiting for her.

Michael tells Margaux that his father is an excellent business man. Margaux says, the notorious Corinthos Coffee. Michael says if she wants to go after his father, go for it, but if she goes for him through other people – like his grandfather who has Alzheimer’s – they have a problem. ELQ does more for the city than any other company. He has friends who will listen to his legitimate concerns. She’s being unprofessional by pursuing Sonny because of a personal vendetta, and needs to watch her step. He can make things uncomfortable. She asks if it’s a threat, and he says, not a threat; the facts. He’ll do anything legal to protect his family.

Sonny asks how Sam got the letters, and she explains that she and Spinelli posed as insurance agents. Jason says he would be useless at impersonating someone. Sam says he was impressive last time, but Spinelli does have a flair for the dramatic. She says as soon as they mentioned Marino’s name, Jeanette’s eyes darted to the desk. Spinelli got her out of the room, Sam found the letters, and put them in her briefcase. Sonny says, she asked Skully to get rid of her own husband. If that doesn’t back Margaux off, he doesn’t know what will.

Curtis thanks Jordan for being gracious. Jordan says she respects Stella. She’s a good person who was dealt a crappy hand. She asks Curtis if he wants to postpone, and work on her more, but Curtis says he’s not losing the best thing that’s happened to him. Stella knows he loves her, and he has no doubt that everything will be okay, as long as he has Jordan.

Michael doesn’t think Margaux wants lawyers involved. She’ll be inviting a problem. Especially after how it shook out with his mother. She tells him, have a nice day, and leaves.

Sonny says he can’t thank Sam enough. He knows she took a chance. Sam says, it was worth it. He says it’s exactly what he needed for leverage against the DA. Now he just has to figure out the best way to use it.

Anna tells Britt, sign, and she walks out free. Britt says, nothing is ever free. What’s the catch? Anna says, it’s more of a quid pro. If she agrees to work with the WSB, and help trace her mother. She moves out, and Obrecht moves in.

Laura tells Carly that Doc asked them not to. If they cause an incident, it might hurt more than help. She promises to fix the problem, but not this way. Carly says they know their way out. Doc grabs the bedpost, and pulls himself up. He looks out the door window, and weakly says, Laura.

Not-Doc sees Mary Pat having a drink at The Floating Rib. He asks if he can join her, and Mary Pat says, somehow she knew they hadn’t seen the last of each other.

Tomorrow, Britt wants a better offer, Lulu says hell no, and Laura promises to fix what’s wrong with Ferncliff.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

When we last left, Shannon was going apesh*t. Vicki sent her a message saying they love her and let’s have a nice dinner tonight, but got no response.

Jamaica – Day 3. Tamra wonders if Shannon is okay. Vicki doesn’t like to see anyone that way. Kelly is scared to talk to her. Tamra doesn’t like being spoken to that way. In her interview, Tamra wants to be there to help her through this difficult time, but it’s hard being Shannon’s friend. Vicki wants to just enjoy the day, and Tamra asks if she’s going to twerk again. Emily is down with that. Gina is glad they’re moving on. She wants to have fun on vacation, and not talk about Shannon.

They go to the river. Dunn’s River Falls is 180 feet high. Kelly researched it, and climbing it is a must-do thing in Jamaica. Guide Andrew is there to assist everyone, and help them have a safe, fun climb. Kelly says, God help us. It’s not the most coordinated group. We flash back to that, and she’s right. She says one false move, and they’ll all go down. Tamra still can’t walk on uneven slippery surfaces, and Andrew tells her there’s a path along the side. She knows her doctor would have a fit. She was pushing it swinging on the rope and jumping into the water.

They start to walk up. Vicki says it’s against everything she believes, and they’re going against the current. Both of Kelly’s boobs fall out of her suit, and Andrew is like, woohoo. They wave to Tamra. In her interview, Tamra says the joy of watching is seeing them make a-holes out of themselves. Kelly keeps popping out, Vicki is falling on her ass, Gina is afraid of water. They slide down one of the slopes, and Tamra thinks it’s more fun watching them. Andrew promises they won’t die. In Kelly’s interview, she says it’s a bonding experience doing this outdoors as a group. Vicki wants down now. Kelly’s goal is to get up the waterfall in one piece. At the top, Andrew has them say, ya, mon, and they take a picture.

Vicki says they’re having a beach dinner tonight. Kelly thinks Shannon would have been funny on the waterfall. Vicki still doesn’t know where Shannon is, and she’s worried. She thinks they have to show compassion, and be together.

There’s a snack spread at the villa. Kelly says still no text back from Shannon. Vicki says they have to find her, and Tamra wonders if she went home. In her interview, Tamra explains that the hotel called in the middle of the night. They had a new villa with air conditioning, so they packed and left. Shannon chose not to go. She tells Vicki to call. Vicki calls the front desk and has them call Shannon’s room. Kelly thinks this is insanity, and Vicki feels uneasy. Kelly finds it absolutely rude, but Vicki asks, what if something happened? Kelly doesn’t think so. Me neither. I think she’s just an a-hole.

Gina thinks Shannon is immature. It’s a big deal and weird for her, and she hopes Shannon comes to dinner. Vicki pouts, but finally gets Shannon. Shannon says their overwhelming concern for her mental well-being is a kind of a joke. She’s been nothing but fun. Vicki says Shannon didn’t answer for 24-hours, and she was about to call the police. Shannon wanted a fun night, and it turned into a mess. Vicki says that wasn’t anyone’s intention. She asks if Shannon is coming to dinner, and Shannon says he was planning on it. She moved rooms, and tells Vicki to get her on the way to dinner. In Shannon’s interview, she says she’s working on being less reactive. She thinks she’s acting like many woman do who are going through a nasty divorce. I say, no, she’s always been like this.

Vicki thinks Shannon is having a pity party of one, and she can’t help unless Shannon opens her mind and heart. They have to fix this. They’re friends. Shannon tells Vicki that when she’s upset, she needs to process. She’s hurt, and thought they were criticizing her, and judging her for being emotional. She’s doing her best to keep it together. She got an earful from Vicki last night. We flash back to Shannon claiming she defended Vicki, and Vicki saying Shannon called her a con-woman all over town. Vicki says Shannon hurt her. They went sideways, and for two and a half years, no one called her. After Brooks was exposed, she was abandoned. So she did her best be friends again. Basically ignoring what Vicki just said, Shannon says she’s not going sideways. She’s on a path, and doing well. With what she has on her plate, she’s doing the best she can.

Gina asks, what’s going on? and Tamra says Vicki is picking up Shannon. Shannon tells Vicki that she’s not crying every night. She’s excited about her life, and it pushes her buttons when people say she’s doing something she’s not. In her interview, Vicki thinks Shannon needs to stop and go to dinner and have fun. Kelly says, it’s like when you call your kid and don’t get a response. You get nervous. Emily says, and this is in a different country. Kelly says, then you get panicky; then mad. Vicki tells Shannon that they’re have a beach day tomorrow.

Vicki shows up with Shannon, and Kelly thanks Shannon for finally coming. They were worried about her. Shannon says she’s good; she’s there. In her interview, Kelly says it’s ironic that Shannon is the one with the least manners, since she’s gone to a lot of cotillions. Kelly says they were worried about her. Vicki suggests they let it go, and Shannon says, sorry. In Kelly’s interview, she doesn’t think Shannon has any idea of the stress she put on them, and how worried they were. She doesn’t need another freak out though, so she’s going with the apology.

Shannon says she’ll address the elephant in the room. She appreciates them giving her the time and space she needed to take a step back. She was incredibly hurt, and there are things that need discussing, but she needed space first. Gina says she was just trying to be Shannon’s friend. Shannon apologizes, saying she gets it. Everyone has stuff, but for her, it’s more than she’s used to. Emily says everyone feels like they’re supporting her, but it’s not reciprocated. They just want to be friends with her. Shannon says with Gina, she has a hard time because Gina is going through a divorce, but saying they’re still attracted to one another, and he’s her best friend. It’s what she wanted for herself. Her intent wasn’t to judge Gina, but when she started off her own divorce, it was the opposite of what it is now. Gina isn’t saying everything is perfect. Obviously, it’s not. It’s a hard transition. In the souvenir shop, she saw an ornament, and that was their thing, This is her journey, and she wants to be respected for it. When it comes to Shannon, she’s trying to be Shannon’s friend. Let her in. Shannon admits it’s hard for her to let people in. She’s sorry. In Tamra’s interview, she says Shannon owed Emily and Gina apologies a long time ago, but where’s hers? She’s so used to being the one who makes things better, but she’s not doing it this time, and Shannon doesn’t know what to do. They clink glasses. The food comes, and there are little glasses of salad dressing, which Tamra claims is soup. Everybody drinks it, and they’re all like, wtf? She starts laughing, and we all laugh with her.

The next day, everyone gets ready to hit the beach. In her interview, Shannon says she’s reaching out to Tamra. She’s a communicator. Friends have their ups and downs, and she hopes they listen to each other, make amends, and move forward. In Tamra’s interview, she says she’s nervous. She doesn’t want another blow-up. She’s hoping they can resolve this, but she’s going to be 100% honest. If Shannon doesn’t like it, they’re done. Kelly thinks it’s important to have open communication. You can only be sad for yourself for a little while. The reality is, Shannon has a damn good life, and needs to get over herself. Kelly goes to get Emily and Gina.

Shannon tells Tamra that she’s reeling from dinner. Apparently, there are underlying issues with the friendship. Tamra says she was reactive. The only reason it got to where it was, is that she’s always negative. She needs to learn to decompress, put the phone away, and have fun in the moment. Shannon should learn from what Tamra’s gone through, but only complains. If you just complain, no one wants to hear it.

Kelly tells Emily and Gina it’s been hurry up and wait for Shannon the whole trip. Emily says she’s never come across someone so – and Kelly finishes, entitled. Emily says she’s not a doctor, but she thinks Shannon’s behavior is like her mom’s. There’s a chemical imbalance. Kelly says there are manic highs and lows. Emily thinks there’s a lot going on that Shannon doesn’t recognize. She’s dealt with it her whole life. She starts to get weepy, and says it was hard for her. In her interview, she says it wasn’t easy, growing up in the middle of nowhere in Ohio with no dad, and a mom with serious depression issues. Now she’s making me cry. She says, as a child, she didn’t recognize it. She didn’t know her mother was ill or needed help. In Emily’s interview, she says she spent her childhood trying to take care of herself and her sister. She’s the one who got her sister up and dressed for school, and when she went to college, gave her money. They had to stick together. She always thinks she’s put it away, but it surfaces all the time. Her mother didn’t realize early on, but is getting help now. Emily hopes Shannon gets closure and help, so she doesn’t have a lifetime of being depressed or upset. Kelly empathizes. Shannon had an amazing life, now it’s crashing down, and she doesn’t know how to handle it.

Tamra tells Shannon that she doesn’t like being screamed and yelled at. She won’t be talked to like that. Shannon was also accusing her of being a sh*t stirrer. How was she stirring the pot? She’d been defending Shannon. Tamra says her husband was having an unplanned heart procedure, and she still went to Philadelphia. She just did that, and Shannon said that about her? She doesn’t deserve it. Shannon says she’s sorry Tamra feels that way. Tamra says that was a sh*tty apology. Shannon says it wasn’t her intention to hurt Tamra, and Tamra says, but she did. Shannon says, it’s a semantics game. Oh no it is not. I even made a sound when Shannon gave that lame apology. Saying you’re sorry someone feels like that, is just like a murderer saying he’s sorry they’re dead, instead of saying he’s sorry he killed them. That is a HUGE pet peeve of mine – a non-apology apology. When someone says they’re sorry, I always ask what for, so I know if they’re sincere.

Tamra says Shannon accused her of needing medication, when Kelly said that, and she was just trying to help. She could have just said it’s not for her, but instead started screaming. Shannon tells Tamra that Gina said she wasn’t a good friend, and Tamra looked at her like she was talking to nobody. Tamra says that was Gina’s observation, and not anything she said. The only thing she ever told Gina was that Shannon didn’t call when Eddie was in the hospital, and that was a month ago when the conversation happened. Since then, Shannon has been there for her. Shannon apologizes. In her interview, she says there are hurt feelings on both sides, and there has to be communication to have a healthy friendship. Tamra wants Shannon to put this sh*t behind her, and be happy. Shannon says she’ll get there. In Tamra’s interview, she says she doesn’t want the friendship to be one-sided. If it takes tough love, she’s going to do it. Shannon admits she needs to listen more. She has things to work on, and she’s going keep doing it. Tamra says it’s all she can do, and they hug it out.

Kelly wants fun time. She can’t take the bullcrap anymore. The ladies are back on the bus, going to Doctor’s Caves beach, where there are healing waters. Kelly loves the beach, and thinks it’s perfect, since they all need healing. Shannon says she needs a big dip in it. Tamra tells her about Vicki twerking. Emily and Gina go to get something to eat, and the other ladies go down to the shoreline and order tequila. Gina tells Emily that she wants to know what happened, and if Tamra got an apology.

The beach group gets in the water. I’d give anything to be there right now; it’s beautiful. And so calm. Emily and Gina order food, and Gina’s mom calls. She tells Susan that Jamaica is gorgeous. Emily says hello, and wishes they could meet. She tells Susan to come back soon. When the call is over, Emily gets emotional. Gina says she’s sorry, and hugs her. She says Emily is the best mom, and Annabelle is lucky. In her interview, Emily says she loves Gina, but she’s jealous. She wants that kind of relationship with her mom. It’s what Annabelle has with her. Gina’s heart hurts for Emily, and she says Emily is giving Annabelle what she wants. Emily says Gina’s mom is so sweet, and she can tell they have a great bond. Gina tells her not to be sorry. She wants Gina and Annabelle to be like that. Emily doesn’t want to mess anything up. She wants Annabelle to pick up the phone like Gina did, excited that her mom is calling. Gina says they butt heads, but they’re best friends. Even though Emily doesn’t have that, she’s not repeating the pattern. Emily says that’s why she had kids later. In Emily’s interview, she says her kids have a safe environment. She makes them dinner and breakfast. And her husband even brushes Annabelle’s hair. She never had that, and never felt, but she’s happy she can give it to her children. The food comes, and Emily hopes the others are having fun frolicking. Gina says, it’s such a crapshoot. and I laugh.

The girls get drinks in coconuts delivered to them in the water, and declare it good. Gina and Emily join them, and go into water. Tamra tells Gina that she stood her ground for the first time ever. She told Shannon it’s not what Gina meant to convey. Gina says she’s sick of hearing Shannon’s sh*t. Emily says she doesn’t want to upset Shannon, but she doesn’t want to walk on eggshells. In Emily’s interview, she says she doesn’t know if Shannon is aware of all the things Tamra has said, but she thinks it worked out because other factors haven’t surfaced.

Kelly sees a floating trampoline, and says she wants to go on the jumpy thing. Tamra goes back to being an old lady sitting on the beach, drinking and admiring the view. Kelly does a backflip, and she, Gina, and Emily jump around. Shannon gets a foot massage. Vicki notes the masseuse has good teeth. Tamra tells him if he didn’t, Vicki would buy him some. Oh snap. If you can’t remember back that far, Vicki had Brooks’s teeth fixed when they first got together. Tamra says Vicki is a dentist who twerks. Dude wants her to shake her booty, but Vicki doesn’t want to. He says she’s in Jamaica, and asks who wants her to twerk; he’ll pay her. She says she’ll pay him not to. In her interview, she says she’s not twerking. At fifty-six, it’s not good for you. Emily does a cartwheel fail into the water, and we all laugh.

The group goes shopping in the tourist area. Kelly sees a lighter that looks like a penis. Shannon says she’s the one who spotted it, and Kelly says she would spot a little d*ck. Afterwards, they head out to dinner. In her interview, Vicki says her rules for a successful dinner are, no talking about Shannon. The only subjects are the weather, how humid it is, and what the humidity does to their hair. Nothing deep.

Vicki asks what Gina liked most, and Gina says the raft. It was fun, and a big deal for her. Once you face your fears, everything is a party. Kelly enjoyed today; she loves the ocean. Everyone agrees her back-handspring was phenomenal. Emily loved the rope swinging. She doesn’t get do stuff like that three kids. Tamra thinks the whole trip was amazing, but her fight with Shannon was the best thing. As much as it hurt them both, she thinks there was growth from it. Shannon says, you learn and grow from your mistakes. It touches her heart, and solidifies that they’re best friends. It will be okay. Tamra says she’s sorry for telling Shannon eff-you. Gina says, sometimes you just have to say it. There’s only one thing that would make Tamra happier, if Gina and Shannon kiss, and Vicki twerks. Shannon and Gina lean across the table, and give each other a kiss. In her interview, Gina thinks it’s finally happening. Houston, we have contact.

They all chant for Vicki to twerk. She wants Tamra to twerk with her, and Tamra obliges. Emily tries to show Shannon how to twerk. Everyone clinks glasses, and drinks to twerking and friends. Ya, mon.

Next time, Vicki has a procedure, Emily goes to therapy with Shane, Gina talks to Shannon and butts heads with Tamra.

🎃 I’m not sure how tomorrow and Wednesday will shake out. I’m going to try to do recaps, but it all depends on time. I still have to put together candy bags for the trick-or-treaters and put up decorations. We can get up to 100 kids, and last year, I started to get worried that I was going to have to give out granola bars. I also have to take the dogs’ pictures on Wednesday. This year’s theme – Jurassic Bark. Luckily, my costume as a park ranger is simple and comfortable, and I was able to get most of it cheaply at Hot Topic. No time for glamour this year. This should be my worst problem.

The Walking Dead

Michonne wakes up and looks at Rick. She kisses him, and gives Judith breakfast. She and Rick look out over the farm, and tend to daily chores. Michonne wakes up. She looks at her katana on the wall.

Outside zombies are feeding. Michonne slices and dices them.

Michonne studies something. She dispatches more zombies. She cleans her katana. Judith runs around playing. It’s night, and Michonne walks the perimeter of the town. She sees a zombie hanging from a noose. His wrists are also tied. While she’s staring at him flailing around, another zombie grabs her. She whacks it with a bat, and realizes it’s Lucille (the bat, not the zombie). She drops it like it’s hot.

I guess this is day to day in Alexandria.

Maggie loves on Hershel, and passes him off to the nanny, or whoever. She watches the bustle of the town from the balcony. She puts a crowbar in her backpack. Jesus says he has a letter from Georgie, but she says she’ll read it later. She’s going to pick up a few things, and Jesus wonders why she needs a crowbar for that. She tells him that he’s done a good job there, and she wants him to keep it up. She wants make things right, like they talked about. He says, like she made things right with Gregory? But they didn’t talk about that. He says, Negan deserved to die. Rick made the call when it wasn’t his to make. Jesus wants to be sure she’s not wrong in the same way, and wants her to be sure. A woman asks if Maggie is ready. She is, and Jesus watches her leave.

Rick watches the water. Eugene says Mother Nature has dealt them a serious bowl of whoop-ass. Rick asks what the chances are of the bridge holding. Eugene takes no pleasure in telling him the long-term isn’t good. He’s sorry. Rick thinks there’s got to be a way keep on with the project, but not with the numbers he currently has. Eugene says there’s a silver lining, and babbles about something neither Rick nor I understand. Rick thanks him, and Eugene says he’s sorry he didn’t do more; read more engineering books. Rick says he did do better. He’s not just a guy who read books. He made something. He got them there after everything, and that’s everything.

Rick sees Carol, and asks if she’s leaving too. She says she is. She’s taking her people home to the Kingdom. He’s seen it out there. He asks, what about the Sanctuary? and she thinks they should try standing on their own. Rick says, what if it goes down the same way as it did there? and she says, then it’s on them. The Sanctuary people don’t want them there. They don’t want Negan either; not most of them. It’s up to them to figure out who they want to be. Rick says, like she did, and Carol says, like they all did. Rick doesn’t know if he’s doing the right thing, but if anyone gives him hope for how things can turn out, it’s Carol. She says she’s still trying to figure things out like everybody else. She’s sorry. She wanted it to work. He knows.

Jerry rides into camp. Jesus told him that Maggie is going to Alexandria, and thought Rick should know. Rick asks if they said anything else, and Jerry tells him that they said he would know what it means. Rick radios Rachel at Alexandria with an urgent message. If Maggie shows up, delay her at the gate, and alert Michonne. Do not let her in without an escort. Rachel says she’ll relay the message. Rick says if Maggie is listening, let’s talk. Rachel says she thinks Maggie is done talking, and picks up her magazine without passing along the message. Daryl asks, what’s going on? Rick tells him, Maggie is heading to Alexandria. She’s about to do something she might regret. Daryl says he’ll take Rick, and they get on the bike.

There’s a knock at Michonne’s gate. It’s Nora, and Michonne says, it’s that time already? Nora says, it’s not always bad news, and Michonne asks, what kind of day it is today? I guess Nora is like the town crier. Nora says, mostly bad. A fourth of the tomato crops were eaten by crows; there are too many to control. Nora wonders if the world starting have an edge over them, but Michonne thinks it will get better when the when windmill is up and running. Nora tells her that Negan won’t eat. Michonne says she’ll handle it. It’s her responsibility.

Daryl goes the wrong way. Rick tells him, pull over. He finally does, and they get off the bike. Rick asks, what is this? and Daryl says Rick knows what this is. Rick says he already called it in; Maggie isn’t making it through the gates. But Daryl says his message didn’t go through. Rick takes out his radio, and Daryl knocks it out of his hand. They tussle, and fall down a hill into a huge man-made pit. Nice job, Daryl.

Michonne brings Negan some food, saying, the hunger strike ends today. He says he’s not on strike. He’s not in the mood to eat, but it’s nice know she cares. She says they’re keeping him alive, and the living eat, so eat. She’ll be back in an hour and wants it gone. He asks if that’s all she’s got, and she says she’s got better things to do. He says if she wants him to eat, he wants her to stay and talk. They’re supposed to be making a civilization, but it’s hard to be part of that if he’s dead from starvation. She thought he wasn’t on strike. He says he won’t be if she stays and talks. She tells him twenty minutes is all he gets, then he eats every bite. She sits and says, let’s talk.

Roots at the top of the pit are the only way out. Rick jumps and grabs one, but it breaks. He asks if Daryl set that up too, and Daryl asks if he’s really laying this on him. Rick is the one who wanted to chase after her; let things be. Rick says, keeping Negan alive means something to them, and Daryl says, Negan being dead means something to Maggie. Rick gets why it does. Why she’s avoiding coming to Alexandria, hanging Gregory. He’s not blind. Daryl says Rick wouldn’t be alive if not for Glenn; he wouldn’t have found any of them. Did he forget? Rick says he thinks about it every day. He hates what he took from her, but he did what he had to do. Daryl says she’s doing what she has to do. Rick wonders if Daryl supports it. Daryl thinks leaving him alive is a symbol to the a-holes who hope they fail. Keeping him alive gives him hope. Maggie tried, but she couldn’t live with it, like Oceanside. Rick asks if Daryl is telling him that Oceanside killed those Saviors. Daryl says, they got what they deserved. Rick says he knew, and didn’t say anything, and Daryl says he couldn’t live with it either. Rick says if they kill Negan, it doesn’t work. He’ll be made a martyr. The war was for nothing. Everyone died for nothing. Carl died for nothing. Daryl says, what about the rest of them. With all the sh*t they’ve been through, did he think they couldn’t handle it? He tells them to have faith in others, when he doesn’t have faith in them. Rick says, not true. Daryl says he’d die for Rick, and would have died for Carl; Rick knows that, but he has to hear him. He’s chasing something for Carl that ain’t meant to be – let him go. Rick says he never asked anyone to die. Daryl knows. but maybe should have.

Negan thinks Michonne’s day is more boring than his. She’s stuck here with the C-team, while Rick and his merry band of bridge builders is out there. Why is that? She says she’s not stuck. Negan says he wasn’t meant to be rotting in a cell, and she wasn’t meant to be growing kale and kissing booboos. She says it’s more than that; they’re building communities with laws. He’s grateful his wife never saw him like this. Michonne asks, as opposed to the a-hole he was before? He says she deserved better than she got, Michonne says, what happened to her? He says, cancer. They would have loved a kid like Carl; she was lucky. She says she thinks about him every day, but he’s still there in everything they do. She sees him everywhere. Negan asks if she sees him in the cell, and she says, everywhere. He says Carl wasn’t her first, and she says, ten minutes and the food had better be gone. Negan asks how he died – it was a he, wasn’t it? Negan wonders if he had her eyes. Michonne says, His name was Andre; he didn’t make it. Negan says, sorry, and she says she’s made peace with it. He says maybe it’s better this way. His wife wasn’t made for this. She was weak, and when she died, it made him not weak. It’s the same with her. They were built for more; they still are. She’s behind walls, and he’s behind bars. Out there, it’s like an addiction. He says she knows what he’s talking about. He says she should be grateful, and she asks, for what? He says, that Andre is gone. He would have made her weak. She throws the tray against the wall, and storms out.

Gabriel is tied up at the trash heap. Anne, now Tardis Jadis again, wipes his brow and kisses his forehead. She has a captive zombie, an armless woman, with a bucket on her head. He tells her that she doesn’t have to do this, but she says she does. She has only one place in life to go, and he’s the price of admission. He says he knows her. She’s afraid, but doesn’t have to be. She’s cherished. She says she’s not like him. He moved on from his past, and opened his heart; he let people in. He says he didn’t do that; others did. She did. He’s a better person because of her. She says she’s sorry it’s all for nothing. She removes the bucket from the zombie’s head, and it’s pretty decrepit, but wearing a fancy necklace. She moves it closer to him, using a metal thing gouged into its back. Gabriel says it’s his fault. She asked for help, and he failed. He pushes her away because he’s afraid. He talks about the beauty of God’s love and forgiveness. He hopes she forgives him someday, like he forgives her. At the point, the zombie is looming over him and drooling on him, but Anne pulls it back. She covers Gabriel’s mouth with a cloth, and knocks him out.

Carol tells Jerry, if they hurry, they can make it to the Kingdom by nightfall. Jed and a bunch of Saviors come out of the woods. They have guns, but so do Carol and her people. Carol suggests they lower their weapons, and no one gets hurt. Jed says Oceanside is killing them. Being that it’s war, they’ll get what’s coming to them. Carol says he’ll get everyone killed. Jed tells her she’s not the boss lady anymore. She’s a weak woman who got a lucky shot. He cocks his gun, and tells her to step aside. She lowers her weapon, and he takes her keys, She kicks the back of his knee, bringing him down. The Saviors run out of the woods toward them.

Daryl gives Rick a boost. Rick tries to grab a root, and gets it on the second try. He starts to pull himself up.

Michonne studies. She looks at her katana, and goes to the kitchen. She goes back to Negan’s cell with some food. She asks why he said those things, and he says he wasn’t trying to piss her off. She wonders why he’d care what she thinks. He says she never comes downs there; it’s always Rick or somebody else. She asks why it matters, and he says, they’re the same; all or nothing. They’re trapped, connected to the dead; same as him. He tells her that she can’t stand that they’re the same, and she says they’re not. They do what they need to get sh*t done. He gets a kick out of it, but she’s trying to make things better. She’s trying to bring people together, not pit them against each other. She compromises and sacrifices. She does get strength from the from dead, and makes no apologies for that. Her sons are gone, but the world will be better for her daughter, and every child who comes into it. Negan says she’s not scared she’s like him, but scared she’ll end up like him. Everything and everyone she loves gone, and trying to connect. It’s worse than nothing. She says as long as he’s still breathing, it’s not nothing, and tells him, time’s up. He’s going to eat one way or another. He’ll have to. He starts to eat, and asks her to wait. He says, there are things in this world we’re desperate to hold on to when there’s nothing left. Michonne says, the whole time, he thought she was his last best chance, and she laughs. He says he wants to see her, and Michonne says, no. They don’t have his bat. He asks where she is; what did they do with her? Michonne says she’s still out there. She tells him to eat, and leaves. Negan cries and bangs his head on the wall.

A zombie falls into the pit before Rick gets to the top. It’s followed by another, and Rick says there are more coming. Daryl pikes them in the head, and piles them to make a stepladder. More fall in, but Daryl and Rick are almost there. The zombies are reaching up and tumbling down. They grasp at Daryl’s feet. Rick pulls himself out. I think he should leave Daryl there, but he’s too nice. He looks around to make sure no more are coming, and grabs a sturdy branch still attached to a tree. He hangs on to it, to get him closer to Daryl. Daryl gets Rick’s hand, but slips. The next time, he gets a stronger grip, and Rick pulls him up. Daryl says, heads up, as another zombie hurtles toward Rick, and ends up in the pit. A horse with a saddle also appears out of nowhere. Rick says he’s staying. He’s not giving up; not yet. A cluster of zombies is coming up the road, and Daryl suggests Rick take them to the bridge. Rick says he’s not destroying the bridge; they need it. Daryl tells him, be safe. Rick leaps on the horse, and says, you too.

Gabriel wakes up in a metal shed filled with cobwebs. He walks out into the trash heap, and calls for Anne, Jaundice, or whatever her name is. He finds a note in his jacket pocket that says, if you want to go fast, go alone; if want to go far, go together. I need to go fast. He clutches it to his chest and cries. He sinks to his knees.

Michonne reads to Judith. It’s a story about a baseball game, and when she gets to a picture of a bat, it comes to the end pretty quickly.

Maggie and a couple of others ride to Alexandria, passing some dead zombies, which I know sounds redundant.

The zombie group follows Rick. As he rides past the bridge, there are tons of them on the other side, and he’s trapped. The horse panics and rears. Uh-oh. Rick is serious stuck. He gets knocked off, and becomes impaled on a metal pole sticking out of a cement block. He closes his eyes. The zombies come closer. This doesn’t look good.

Next time, Rick’s last episode. It’s hard to tell if he’s dead, alive, dreaming, or what. A cloud of crows is involved, and also a blast from the past.

🐓 Return to Amish is back on November 18 (TLC). Mary Schmucker is my favorite reality show cast member of all time. I can’t wait to see what those wacky Pennsylvanians are up to.

Z Nation

The names of those lost are read by Estes. He says the strength of the human soul will carry them through, and if they are the last generation of humans, they won’t be lost to the universe. The future of humanity is at stake. He stands in front of a memorial made of bricks containing the DNA of the dead. Red gives Sun the slide containing Lilly’s DNA.

George tells Roberta that Dante would have gone to Pacifica. They know him there, and anyone would help him. Citizen Z says he’s considered a hero. Roberta thinks as long as he’s on the run, the guiltier he seems, and there are vigilantes out to get him. CZ can’t wait to get to Pacifica. It contains the largest collection of books. Roberta asks what the population is, and George says, sixty-five adults, and six kids. It’s not perfect, but they’re trying to make it work. Everyone is equal there. Doc says, who’s have thought the apocalypse would be the great equalizer.

They see some people running. George thinks she knows them. She says they’re talkers; running from something or someone. Roberta and George follow a path, and Roberta notes that it’s seen a lot of traffic. They find a dead talker. George says someone ate his brains, and Roberta asks if that’s unusual. George says around there it is. Some guys with guns come out of the woods, and George recognizes their leader as Henry. He’s glad to see her; they didn’t know if she was alive. They saw the attack on CZ’s live cam. George says he’s there, and introduces Roberta, saying Roberta saved her in black summer. She tells Roberta that Henry was her professor. Henry thanks Roberta for saving George. In a way, she saved all of them. He tells George that they’ve doubled their patrol since the attack, and there are rumors of other outposts being attacked. He asks if she thinks Dante is involved. She says, no, and thinks it’s insane that he’s suspect. Roberta says she heard about talkers plotting against humans, but Henry says, that’s ridiculous. They’re human too. They live peace harmony. It’s not always easy, but they make it work. At least they did until last week.

Dante watches Pacifica through binoculars. He sees a caravan of cars going in, and says, let’s move.

Doc is impressed with the outpost. It’s what he thought a college would look like. George explains that they took the south end of campus, the library, and dining hall, and made them zombie proof. They have a chef, Amy, who’s a talker. CZ says she can’t eat anything she cooks. It’s like Beethoven being deaf. George says she has an opening for a taster, and thinks Doc would be perfect. He asks where he signs up.

The dining hall is empty, and George says it’s usually packed. She asks where everyone is, and the talker busboy shrugs. There are unfinished meals on the tables, and Henry says it looks like dinner was interrupted. They decide to go to the library. CZ says it’s what drew him and Kaya there. They have the largest collection of books under human control. George says they want send expeditions out to rescue books from the great libraries. Doc says Stephen King seems tame after eight years of the apocalypse.

George shows the a mural of the Pacifica family tree. It displays all the residents of Pacifica and the ancestors they can remember. There are so few survivors, they wanted to memorialize them. The yellow leaves represent humans; the green leaves, talkers; the brown leaves are those who died before the apocalypse; and the black leaves are for those who turned zombie. Doc says, it gets to you; seeing it laid out like that. Kaya’s nana is on a ladder painting, and CZ introduces her. He wants Roberta and Doc to meet his family, and Henry tells them he’s going to see where everyone is. Doc tells nana that he has something for her pipe for later.

They go to the nursery. CZ hugs his son. Kaya says he’s alive, and runs to him. He introduces Roberta and Doc, and they hug. CZ then introduces JZ, and Roberta asks who his little friend is. Kaya says she’s Ann Marie, and George says she’s a talker. Henry runs in, and tells them there’s a town hall meeting with no talkers allowed. It’s madness.

At the meeting, a guy named Danny says, Pacifica is all of them. It’s the point of the place. Another guy asks what he’s talking about. That’s utopia. This is real life. Danny says they’re not strangers or freaks His aunt is out there, and she feeds all of them. A woman named Beth is sick of the PCness, and acting like the talkers aren’t a threat to their survival. Danny says it’s their duty. Outside in the hall, Amy tells George they’ve been locked out, and the meeting is humans only. Danny is trying to convince them otherwise, but it’s scary. Why shut them out? George says she’ll sort it out, and goes in.

Mike lies on Sun’s examining table, looking pretty beat up, and she pokes at his. She asks if he feels something, and he says it feels like his right foot is there. He asks Sun to mercy him. He can’t live without his wife and kids. Sun says she can’t. She needs to know what keeps him talking. We see that Mike has no bottom half to his body. Red comes in, and tells him she’s sorry about him and his family. Sun tries to give him a biscuit, but he slaps it away. He doesn’t want anything to make it last longer. When he leaves, Sun tells Red that his family was killed in the blast, and it left him like that. It’s worse than being a zombie. The zombies don’t know they’re zombies.

10K comes to the lab, and Sun asks how he is. He wants to get out of there, but Red says he still needs to recover, and Sun is concerned about infection. 10K is worried that the longer they stay, the harder it will be to get out. Sun checks the cauterization on his arm, and says it’s healing beautifully. 10K says, it’s not. Sun tells him that Red went back and found his hand. He tells her to sew it back on, but she says, it doesn’t work like that. He can learn to live without it, and there are prosthetic options. Estes walks in, and asks if Sun has everything she needs to complete her research. It’s more important now than ever. He’s sorry about 10K’s hand, and tells him robotics can help. He has a meeting with the outpost leaders, and they’ll see where they go from here.

At the town meeting, Beth says she didn’t come this far to be eaten alive so they can feel better about themselves. George and Roberta walk in, and George asks if she can talk, and says, this isn’t like us. Roberta says, or it’s just like us. Danny says they’re discussing putting the talkers in quarantine. The other guy says, just until they know what’s going on, and Doc says, that’s a slippery slope. Beth says they have no right to put her family at risk. The talkers are dangerous. George says no one wants to put her family at risk, but Beth doesn’t want to hear that everything is going to be okay. She’s not sitting around waiting for something to happen. She storms out, and purposely bangs into Amy in the hall.

Simon (CZ) plays Simon Says with the kids. Beth stomps in, grabbing her child, saying she’s not playing with talkers. CZ says they’re just kids, and Beth says they can kill her child. Kaya says she’s hurting their feelings. They’re still children. Beth says they don’t get it.

Nameless instigator dude says, cut the bullsh*t. The talkers aren’t human. Doc thinks they’re not showing humanity themselves. George says, as long as they have biscuits, they’re fine. A woman says, what if they don’t have them? The delivery didn’t come. Dude says that’s why they need a quarantine. If George is so hell-bent on protecting them, they’ll all be safe. Henry says they’re talking about putting their families and friends into a camp. They’re not Nazis. The woman says there are more zombies than ever. What does he think is attracting them? They’re going feral. Amy comes in with the group from the hall, and asks who she’s calling feral? Danny tells her not to take it personally. Some of the humans start to chant, quarantine. A guy says no one is separating him from his wife, and a fistfight starts.

Roberta shoots into the air, and says now that she has their attention, sit down. She’s new around there, and please forgive her if she oversteps, but they say they want to form a new country. What kind would it be? The idea of quarantine comes from a place of fear. Vigilantes are spreading hate that comes from the same fear. They just came from finding a talker left to rot alive. The woman says they’re right to be afraid. Roberta says the zombie virus isn’t the only virus they need to be worried about. Acts of hate rooted in fear are a virus too, and will eat their brains faster than any talker. How can they dehumanize their neighbors, friends, and families? How can they see them as a threat? Is that a country they want to live in? It’s not one she’s willing to die for. George thanks her. She wants everyone to take a moment and look around the room, remembering who they are to each other. Each of them are there today because of the others. They’ve saved one another’s lives multiple times. They’re only alive because of each other. The talkers are their families and friends. Dude says, not anymore; they’re dead. George says, they are, but their soul is still in there. Who knew death would be on a sliding scale, but it’s the world they live in.

The woman says the talkers want to eat their brains. Amy says, not everyone’s; just hers. Ha-ha! George says as long as they get biscuits, they’re no more dangerous than humans. Probably less, considering this bunch. She knows they’re shaken by the attack at Altura, and they can’t rule out talkers being involved. Dude ask if that’s why they’re looking for Dante, but George says he’d never be a part of it. Dude says he doesn’t know that, and neither does she. If not for him, none of them would be alive. Dude says they can’t trust the talkers, Dante included. Roberta says they have a chance at building a new world. Don’t build it on fear. George still has hope, and knows they do too. One day, the long dark howl of despair will be over. There will be an after someday, and when it comes, she wants to be able to live with herself. Roberta asks what George wants them to do, and George says, go home, rest, and remember what their dream is. One day, they’ll all be talkers. She hopes it’s different tomorrow. If Dante is on the run, it’s for a reason. Dude says, maybe he’s guilty. George says, if so, she’ll bring him to justice.

Roberta tells George that she and Doc will be on watch. Doc says, it wasn’t so pacifico tonight, but George says, they’re good people; they’re just scared. Roberta says they’re not taking chances. She walks George to her room, and Roberta wonders where George sleeps. George explains that she can’t sleep on bed anymore, and has a mat on the floor. Roberta says George did a great job calming the people. She see why they trust her. George says she did her best, and it all went to sh*t. Maybe it’s time for someone else to try. Roberta says, there is no one else, and George says she can’t be who they want her to be. Roberta says she can. There’s no one like them. They don’t get the chance to have doubts, because doubts make them hesitate, and when they hesitate, people die. She backs George 100%, but she has to ask. Does any part of her suspect Dante? George says he’s like a brother. It would be like Doc betraying Roberta. Roberta says there are few things she’s learned to depend on in the apocalypse, but Steven Beck is one of them. She asks George if she knew that was his real name, but George is already asleep.

We don’t see a face, but a guy puts a gun in his waistband.

Doc snores, as Roberta watches. The guy with the gun closes his door behind him, and Doc wakes up. Roberta motions for him to be quiet, and they go in opposite directions down the hallway. Some people are sneaking around, and Doc follows them. He gets to a door that leads outside, and he finds Roberta there. An alarm goes off. Everyone runs outside. George asks what’s going on, and Henry says, the talkers are all gone. She says, everyone? and Roberta says, everyone.

Doc, Roberta, and George arm themselves. George says they probably haven’t gotten far. Henry feels terrible; they’re probably scared. Doc says he blame them. George suggests they move quickly so they can catch up. Instigator dude says they should leave them go. They don’t belong there. Roberta says vigilantes are crucifying them. He says she doesn’t get it, and she says she does, more than he knows. CZ joins them with Kaya, saying she has intel for them. Kaya tells them the chef told her that they were headed into the woods, and they’re supposed to look for a symbol, a radiating sun. Kaya gives Roberta a paper with the symbol drawn on it, saying the chef left it behind. She told Kaya to thank Roberta for everything, and said don’t follow them. George thinks they’re safer in Pacifica than out there, but Kaya isn’t so sure. Roberta says it looks like someone is helping them, and there’s a talker underground.

Red wraps 10K’s wound. She says Sun is working on an interim solution. He asks how long it will take, but she tells him it’s hard to say with lockdown. He just wants something to pull a trigger with. Just asking, but if he’s so gung-ho about using a gun again, why isn’t he practicing shooting with his other hand?

In the woods, Roberta and company see some trucks go by. Henry says maybe it’s a delivery, but George says they’re not biscuit trucks. She finds a piece of Amy’s scarf. Some armed men come out of the woods and their leader asks if there are any talkers with them. George says she works with Estes, and he says he knows who she is. They’re looking for her pal, Dante, and he asks if she’s seen him. She says, not since the blast. Doc asks what they’re going to do with him, and the leader says, put him on trial. George asks, what court? Who are the judges? That’s what the vote was for. He says they formed a provisional court, and Estes is the judge. They’ll give Dante fair trial – then mercy him. If she helps Dante evade them in any way, she’ll be arrested too, for accessory to murder. Roberta doesn’t see where it’s a crime to help talkers, and he says, it’s the law, and he intends to enforce it. George says, there was no vote, but he says either report any contact immediately, or be subject to arrest. He tells his men, move out, and Roberta says they need find Dante before those guys do.

Sun puts blood on a slide and looks at it. She puts it in a case that says Alvin Murphy, and takes it to the memorial wall, sliding it into one of the bricks. Estes sees her, and asks why she’s not in the lab. She says she needed time to think. The last three tests were a failure, and the side effects were horrible. Estes wants her work to continue without interruption. She’s close to the protein that drives the behavior of the talkers. If they find it, they might be able to figure out what the black rain did to restore consciousness to the dead. Sun says they’re killing them in the process, but Estes says if they do nothing, the talkers will die anyway. Sun needs more time, and he says they don’t have it. If they don’t find a solution soon, they’ll have no choice but to treat talkers as zombies. They’ve seen what happens when they’re starving. He tells her that she has 48 hours.

Roberta asks Henry how long he’s known George. She’s known George since black summer. Henry says he’s known her longer than that. She was one of his students. There was something about her even then. Others got killed, but she she kept surviving, and took them with her. Doc says George seems nice, but he knows badass when he sees it. She could probably mercy a horde with her eyes closed. Roberta asks if there’s any chance that Dante is helping the talkers disappear, and George says, if he is, it’s for good reason. He’s saved too many humans to start killing them now. Doc finds the symbol painted on a tree, and calls the others over. George says they’re on the right trail, and Roberta says the paint is still wet. She tells Doc there’s something familiar about it that she can’t place.

George finds some supplies under a tarp, and says it could be a drop. They see a backpack, and she tells them it’s Dante’s. They hear a sound that Doc describes as a giant bug zapper. We see a zombie being poked with an electrified prod. George says, puppies and kittens, and Roberta says, a whole damn litter. A group of zombies moves toward them at a pretty fast clip.

Red tells 10K that he should get some food, but he says he’s not hungry. She says there’s a movie in the dining hall on a real They should go; it will take his mind off things. She says the movie is The Fugitive, and I literally LOL. I also wonder how many people will get the joke. The fugitive’s nemesis is the one-armed man. 10K says he knows what Red did, she did to save his life. Red says she’s not sorry, and she’d do it again. 10K says he’s done the same things. It’s not her. She’s the only thing keeping him going. If he can’t shoot, who is he? She says he’s ten thousand. He’s a good shot because of his mind and eyes, not because of his hand. He’ll have to learn again, and it’s all in there. She touches his head, and he says he needs to think.

Kaya tells CZ that George is sure Dante is innocent. CZ says it would be out of character. He’d lay down his life for them. Kaya asks why would anyone think did it? and CZ says, he was there before the blast, and no one has seen him since. He got it all on tape. Kaya asks where the tape is, and he says he handed it over to Estes for analyzation. She wants to see it, but he says he won’t get it back until after the investigation. Kaya says it’s uploaded to a server. CZ says she has that look in her eye again, and suggests the get started.

Doc asks when the cavalry is coming, and George says they are the cavalry. That’s what he was afraid of. These zombies are quick, and one takes Henry right off of a cliff. George goes after him, and Roberta wonders where they’re all coming from. Henry is up and running, a zombie close on his heels. George pikes it in the head, but another takes its place and knocks Henry down. George tackles the zombie, pummeling its face into oblivion. Doc says, damn. Have mercy. George asks if Henry is okay. He thinks so, and wonders how many times she’s saved his life. She says she likes him as a human. Roberta notices the sweatshirt one of the zombies is wearing, and says this many zombies from Kalamazoo Water Park isn’t random. They hear an explosion. Kaya is on the radio saying, Pacifica…mayday… but she’s breaking up. Roberta takes the radio and asks if Kaya can hear her. Kaya says, Roberta… Pacifica…. mayday… Roberta help us. They hear another explosion, and Kaya says, attack… don’t know why… Roberta tells her, hang on; she’s coming. Henry says he’ll catch up. When the others are out of sight, he rolls up his sleeve, revealing a bite.

Sun goes into the lab, and sees Red is there. Red tells Sun that she borrowed some of her gear. There must be some way to make a trigger finger for 10K. Sun says, how about this? and shows Red a torch.

On the outskirts of Pacifica, there are dead bodies all over the place. Roberta tells the group to keep their eyes open. They could be anywhere. There’s another explosion. Roberta says not to rush in and get killed. It won’t do anyone any good. Beth is lying on the ground, bloody, and calls to George. She says, the dead; so many. Her baby; so many. They hear another blast, and Beth asks for mercy. Roberta aims her gun, but George stops her. She closes Beth’s eyes and mercies her.

Dante stands on a hill looking down at the outpost. He says, they have no idea what’s coming. Time to move. Humans don’t like being killed. We see a group with him, and Amy is among them.

Things fall around CZ at the library, as he calls for Kaya. He hears screaming. Outside, people are running, and it’s chaos.

👻 Beyond the Sanderson Sisters…

🎃 This Halloween, if you need a break from twenty-four hours of Hocus Pocus, and are looking for something less conventional, I have a few suggestions. The Cabin in the Woods never gets old for me, but my traditional Halloween go-to has always been The Midnight Hour. A TV movie from 1985, it was hard to find on DVD up until recently. The words TV movie alone might be off-putting, but I love this bittersweet Halloween tale. Some high school kids (who look to be about thirty-years-old) steal some costumes from a museum for their Halloween party, and cast a spell, inadvertently raising the dead. It boasts an eclectic cast, including a pre-Trek LeVar Burton, Shari Belafonte-Harper, Dick Van Patten, and Kevin McCarthy from the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It’s just not Halloween to me without it. You can watch the whole thing here:

Another gem of a forgotten film is Ravenous, a story about soldier cannibals during the Mexican American War. Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle star, and it doesn’t get much better. Well-written, wickedly funny, and gory as hell, it also features the most heart-pounding fall down a hill I have ever seen. If musicals suit your Halloween mood, both Shock Treatment and Phantom of the Paradise are definite contenders. While not exactly scary (well, it depends on what you’re afraid of), they fit the spirit of the holiday. The former was released as a sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, although I’m not sure why, since the only similarity is the film’s two lead characters are named Brad and Janet (Cliff De Young and Jessica Harper, who has a voice like honey). Also written by Richard O’Brien, it features much of the same cast, but is more of an homage to the evils of reality TV and the average person’s desire for fame. It bombed at the box office, but IMO is better than RHPS in some ways. You can also find it on YouTube, and get an interesting take on it here:

Phantom of the Paradise is somewhat Rocky Horror-esque, but was written by Paul Williams. Before you laugh, know that this is no Carpenters song. With a plotline that borrows heavily from Phantom of the Opera, it’s also a story about how far one will go to achieve fame. It will cost you a couple of bucks to watch the whole thing, but you can see the trailer for free here:

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Since all news happens between 3 and 4 pm, my viewing pleasure was interrupted by everyone involved with today’s arrest patting themselves on the back. I almost got confused. They were thanking so many people, for a minute, I thought it was an awards show. I also kept thinking they were saying IUDs when they were saying IEDs.

General Hospital

So of course, they come back to a commercial. God forbid we miss one of those.

Kiki tells Sasha if she’d known Sasha was free, she would have arranged things. She thinks they should take getting to know each other up a notch now that she’s staying. She asks where Sasha is staying, and Sasha says Nina offered to put her up at the MetroCourt indefinitely, but she’s not sure she’s ready for that level of generosity. Kiki tells her Nina is her landlord. Sasha can stay with her, and accept Nina’s generosity without actually accepting it. Griff comes by, telling Kiki the decision still has to be made, and jets. Sasha says that was cryptic; she’s intrigued. Kiki says all the more reason to move in with her. She can tells Sasha everything she wants to know.

Elizabeth wonders if she held on too tight to Aiden. Why would he feel like the world is unsafe? Franco says, the world is unsafe. She ask why he won’t tell her what’s wrong, and Franco says, he’s a weird kid. Not in a bad way. Weird is awesome; he celebrates weird. He’s different, but hasn’t realized different is the best. It’s nothing she did or didn’t do. Before they met, he wasn’t comfortable in his own skin. He doesn’t want Aiden to go through that, but Elizabeth says it’s not going to be solved in one afternoon. Having Franco on their side means they’ll be okay.

Lulu tells not-Doc that her first article sparked an online debate about the nature of evil. Not-Doc says, nature versus nurture, and Lulu says, or both. She wants to know why; what triggered him. Was it his environment or experiences, or something inside waiting to be set off? Not-Doc says the question for her readers should be who defines evil? The person passing judgement or the evil-doer. Did Ryan accept other people’s definition, define it himself, or was he someone who cast off social norms?

Ava introduces herself to Sasha, saying she’s Kiki’s mother. Sasha says Kiki didn’t tell her that her mom was in town. Ava says she wouldn’t. Unfortunately, they’re estranged. Sasha says she’s sorry, and Ava says, that’s what comes from sleeping with her mother’s boyfriend. Sasha says, her and Griff? Ava says she was more serious than he was, so it’s no surprise he moved on. Kiki is very casual. She should have realized sex was all he was after. She says she’s embarrassing herself, and they’ll work things out. In six months, Kiki won’t even remember Griff. In the meantime, she’s glad Kiki met Sasha, and hopes they talk again. She leaves, and Sasha is like, whoa.

Elizabeth and Franco talk about wedding plans. She asks if he thinks the flowers should be formal or wild. He says, both. She asks if he’s being diplomatic, and he says the formal flowers represent her beauty, and the wildflowers represent her passionate side. **ava about * thing but aiden decide if doesn’t get ird of prob have fun maybe they have fn tonight

Sam and Spinelli pose as representatives for the insurance company and visit Margaux’s mother, Jeanette. Sam says it must have been a loss for her daughter. Losing her father must have left a hole in her daughter’s life. Jeanette says she missed him. Spinelli asks her to forgive them, asking so many questions when she’s had a personal loss. Sam adds, but they need to clear up the claim. Spinelli says he died in 1985, and she reported him missing in 1985. She stopped paying the premiums, so the policy lapsed. Jeanette says, so she gets nothing? She waited all this time to find out he’s dead, and gets nothing? Sam says they don’t mean to disappoint her, and Spinelli tells her the time of death is taken seriously. Jeanette says they claimed they wanted to help. How is this helping? Spinelli tells her if she can prove he died between January and August, when the policy was active, they could award the claim. The authorities go by the year. Jeanette says, he died in March, and Sam asks how she can be sure. Jeanette says she just knew. She knew the moment he was walking out the door, he was headed to death.

At Ferncliff, Carly says the place looks better, and Laura wants to ask the head nurse about reform. Mary Pat walks in, telling someone, just because she lost her job doesn’t mean their days numbered. She sees Carly, and says, back so soon, Caroline? It was inevitable. Carly says she’s back with a visitor’s pass, like Mary Pat, and she’s brought a friend. Laura introduces herself, saying her husband is a psychiatrist there. Mary Pat says she’s very familiar with him, and knows all about his patients. He believes in treating violent psychopathic cases with kid gloves. A patient she warned him about repeatedly pumped her full of drugs. She could have had an allergic reaction or died. Carly says apparently, she didn’t do a good job. The new head nurse comes in, and tells Mary Pat to get her stuff and turn in her visitor’s pass. Carly says she was tortured for weeks; being fired is too good for Mary Pat. Laura says she’s looking forward to the tour. The nurse tells them her name is Kay, and Laura says both she and Carly have questions. An institution that would hire someone like Mary Pat has a lot to answer for, and she’ll be asking.

Not-Doc tells Lulu society makes a complex agreement of societal norms; what’s right and wrong. Psychopaths tend to refuse to abide by the contract. Lulu wonders if they believe what they’re doing is right, and not-Doc says, Ryan would say he was unencumbered by the confines of conventional wrong, so there are no consequences. Lulu asks if he didn’t care, or did he enjoy it because he believed society was wrong. Is someone like him curable? Not-Doc says she’s asking the wrong question. What he’d ask is do they wish to be cured?

Kiki gives Elizabeth a small token for her support in Kiki going up against Dr. Bensch. I miss what she says it is, but it looks like a Dr. Bensch chew toy. Elizabeth says she saw Kiki and Griff’s picture in The Invader, and Kiki says she didn’t even know about it until it was pointed out. Elizabeth says, by her mom? and Kiki says her mother was furious, and felt betrayed. Elizabeth thinks it’s a good thing she and Griff are distancing themselves. Kiki says, sooner or later, Ava drives everyone away who cares. She’ll drive Avery away too eventually. She should feel sad, but doesn’t anymore.

Ava sees Franco at the hospital. He says she seems chipper, and she says she’s in a good mood, thanks to Doc. Franco didn’t realize she was a regular. She says she finds therapy to be extremely liberating. He’s encouraging her to own her feelings, and stop apologizing for who she is. Franco says she spends a lot of time doing that. Ava says they betrayed her, and she’s the person at fault. He suggests making amends, but she says Doc doesn’t feel that way, and he’s encouraging less remorse. Franco wonders if it’s a long-term reverse psychology ploy, but Ava says he wants her to explore her anger and desire for revenge. She has natural impulses, and it’s not awful to feel how she’s feeling. France asks if she’s being forthcoming. He knows her, and encouraging her to explore her rage is like giving a pyromaniac a flamethrower, and telling them to play with it. Tell him that she’s not thinking of burning down Kiki.

Sam asks Jeanette how she knew Vincent was going to die, and Jeanette says, he had dangerous clients. When he didn’t come home, she feared the worst. She went to the police the next day, but either they didn’t take her seriously, or they were working for the same people. They suggested he walked out, but he wouldn’t have left Margaux; he adored her. She stopped paying the premiums because she believed he was dead, and if she was right about who did it, they’d never recover the body. Spinelli says after seven years, she could have had him declared legally dead, file a claim, and move on. She shows them a picture of Margaux as a little girl, and says that’s why she didn’t. How could she look at that face and tell her that her father was gone forever. Margaux thought he was coming back. Spinelli tells Sam that he feels unwell, and Sam asks if he took his medication. He tells Jeanette that he’s hypoglycemic, and it helps when he takes a pill. He ask if he can trouble her for a glass of water. She takes him into the kitchen. Sam puts gloves on, and snoops. She finds a locked drawer in the desk.

She gets it open, and rifles through it, finding a stack of letters tied with a ribbon in the back. Spinelli yells, thank you; it did the trick, and Sam puts the letters in her briefcase. Spinelli says he’s feeling better thanks to Jeanette’s orange juice. Jeanette asks if they can do this another time. It takes a lot out of her talking about Vincent, and she’s not sure there’s anything else she can tell them. Sam thinks they have enough information; they’ll call if they have any questions. Spinelli says they’ll give her claim to the higher-ups. Jeanette asks if she could still get a payout, and Spinelli doesn’t see why not. It’s a heartbreaking tale, and to weigh it against a few unpaid premiums would be heartless. Jeanette is surprised they would take her story into consideration. She’s never heard of a special effort to give money. Sam says, it happens all the time, and Spinelli says they didn’t come to debunk her claim, but find out the truth, so she can get what’s rightfully hers. Wow. If Jeanette believes that fairytale, I have some land in Florida for her to buy.

Ava tells Franco that Doc dares to test her limits, and inspires her to set some. While she can fantasize to her heart’s content about Kiki and Griff, they’re destruction won’t be at her hands. Franco asks if she’s hired someone else, but she says they’ve been left to their own devices. He says, impressive. Doc is a genius. Who knew he’d get through to two people like them?

Griff sits at Sasha’s table, saying he must have missed Kiki. Sasha says she had an errand to run, but they’re touching base later. Griff is glad Sasha is staying, and Sasha says she’s feeling better about it all the time. Griff says, it means a lot; family. Especially now. She ask why he means, and he says Kiki’s like is complicated. Sasha says that’s pretty much what Kiki’s mother told her.

Laura tells Kay that she’ll be seeing the areas Carly described in her statement. Kay says she’s not at liberty to discuss the statement, but Laura has it right there. It helps to know people. She wants a complete tour, including the rooms. Kay says a lot of the patients are criminally insane. She can’t allow access to the patients for Laura’s own safety. Laura says her daughter is the lead reporter on the article. Does Kay want Laura to give her a quote on how they were shut down and stonewalled? The public will ask what they’re hiding. Kay says she’s simply fooling policy. Laura says Kay can answer her questions and give her a proper tour. It’s up to her.

Griff says Ava spoke to Sasha? and Sasha says, she likes to share. Ava told her way more than she should know. Griff says Ava tends to exaggerate. Kiki is more realistic. Sasha says he’s part of it, but he says, only peripherally. They have to work it out between them. He doesn’t want to get overly involved.

Ava tells Franco she’s not going to torture Kiki. He’s glad, and Ava says she’ll live to regret it. Doc has encouraged her to move beyond regret. Franco says it’s much healthier to work it out through fantasies, instead of being stupid in real life.

Elizabeth tells Kiki, after what Ava put them through, she and Griff are entitled to some happiness. Kiki says, if her mother taught her anything, it was not to let anyone keep her down. Not even her mother.

Lulu thanks not-Doc. She can’t wait to share the information with her mom. Mental health and reform are at the top of her campaign platform. Not-Doc says it’s the reason he suggested she run. Lulu says when Laura heard about what happened to Carly at Ferncliff, she went on a crusade. They’re on a fact-finding mission at Ferncliff right now. Not-Doc says he should be there. Lulu thinks that’s sweet, but he’s probably too late. It’s happening as they speak. He says, Laura and Carly are at Ferncliff now? Lulu says she almost feels bad for the staff. If they’re hiding anything, her mom will find out.

Laura tells Kay that she wants to be clear. She’s not leaving until all the doors are opened. Carly says, starting with the room next to the one she was in.

Outside, Spinelli tells Sam that Jeanette was hospitable, and deeply suspect. She shows him the letters, and says they’re love letters – from Skully.

On Monday, Stella has a bone to pick with not-Doc, Michael tells Margaux that he knows nothing, and Mary Pat asks Caroline if she’s going down Memory Lane.
