General Hospital

Carly comes downstairs and tells Jason that Mike is playing with Avery. Jason asks if he’s told her anything else. She says, about the gun or Croton? No. Jason wonders if Mike remembers what he told them. Carly asks what they should do, and he says, wait for Sonny. If Mike doesn’t tell him, one of them will. Carly thinks it should be Mike. It will help give Sonny closure. The house phone rings. At first, Carly says, tell her he’s not here, but then changes it to, send her up. Jason asks if it’s the DA, and she says, worse. She opens the door to Ava. She asks what Ava wants, and Ava says, her daughter of course.

Kristina comes downstairs, and Sam says, that’s the sister she knows, who stays out late like she sleeps in. She asks Kristina how the concert was, and Kristina says she doesn’t want to know.

Nina tells Maxie that she was right the whole time. Her daughter is alive. Maxie asks her to stop doing this, but Nina says she has proof. Her daughter is alive.

Peter sees Griff hitting the bag at the gym. Peter asks if that’s how he should treat a surgeon’s hands, but Griff says he doesn’t have to worry about doing any surgery. Peter says he heard Griff was suspended. Griff tells him it’s because of the unauthorized DNA test he ran on Peter.

Finn walks into the examining room to find his father with Chase. Gregory says he finally has his two boys to himself.

Not-Doc tells Felicia he’s grateful to get her all to himself. She says, what a coincidence. She was dying for some one-on-one time with him. She couldn’t talk at lunch with Lucy hovering. He tells her, nothing happened. Nobody died, and his marriage is safe. He asks what she wanted to talk about, and she says, about Ryan. What happened was horrible, but they have no reason to hide. They can be honest, and not sugarcoat. He agrees, and she can’t remember the last time they discussed it. He buried his brother literally, and buried him inside; it’s like pulling teeth. He doesn’t think they need to resort to creative dentistry just yet. She says they’re the only ones who really know what a horror show he was, and can tell the gruesome truth.

Maxie asks who told Nina that her daughter was alive. Nina says, Valentin, and Maxie makes a disgusted sound. Nina says he spoke to her mother. She said Nina had the baby, and didn’t miscarry. Her mother was afraid her baby girl would get her inheritance, and arranged for a black market adoption. Maxie tells her that Valentin specializes in lies, but Nina says, he’s not the one who found her. It was Curtis. He loves her, and would never lie. Maxie asks if he actually met her. Nina says, not only that; he had a DNA test run, and the test confirmed it. She shows Maxie the picture of Sasha.

Peter tells Griff, for what it’s worth, the hospital didn’t find out from him. Griff says he didn’t think so. He knows who did, and it doesn’t matter. It was illegal, immoral, and unethical. Peter says, and it didn’t even feel good. His sad attempt at a joke. Griff says he’s a bad audience right now. He did what he could, and he’s grateful Anna was okay with it. Peter tells him that Anna got a lead on Obrecht. Griff knows, and says Anna isn’t stopping until she knows he’s safe.

Ava has brought Avery’s ballet things, since she has class today. Carly says Avery is in a meeting and not taking visitors. She’s hosting an important tea party with her grandfather. Ava hopes not alone, and Carly says she’ll never know, and thanks her for dropping by. Jason says he’ll walk her out, and Ava asks if he realizes if it wasn’t for her, he’d be a zombie in Russia or dead. Carly wants to hear how she saved him again, and Jason says she gave him a paper clip. Ava says she gave him back to his family, and gave his family back to him. This is how he thanks her? He says he gave her the formula to get her face back. She says, his life and her face makes them even? Jason says Morgan was his godson, and they’ll never be even. She snarks about what a wholesome environment Sonny maintains for Avery, and Carly tells Jason to go. She’s looking forward to catching up with Ava. He leaves, and Carly says she’s impressed by Ava’s composure. It must be tough that the whole town knows Griff dumped her for Kiki.

Maxie asks Nina how Curtis found her daughter, and Nina says, lawyers, black market adoptions and channels.  She was raised by a single mom, and her mom has passed on. Maxie says it can’t be confirmed then. Nina tells her that Curtis said Sasha didn’t want to believe it, but he talked into a DNA test. He had it done at two different labs, and just got a confirm on the second. Sasha is her daughter. Maxie is happy for her, and asks when Nina is meeting her. Nina says, that’s not happening.

Not-Doc appreciates Felicia’s concern, but all this talk has had little affect on him. She asks how that’s possible. She’s been swamped with interview requests. He’s Ryan’s twin. Why wouldn’t they be more curious about him? He says he’s counting it as a blessing, and leaving it at that. He’ll be fine. She says he wasn’t fine for years. Has he forgotten about his breakdown He says, of course not, but it was a long time ago. He doesn’t live in that headspace anymore. Felicia wants to make sure he’s taking care of himself, and has a way to protect them both.

Gregory says he’s surprised Finn became a doctor. He didn’t like messy, and even cleaned his utensils a second time before eating. Chase says suggests the talk about Gregory. Gregory says he’s been to countless doctors. One suggested he had MS, but MS doesn’t disappear when you take antibiotics. Finn asks if antibiotics help, and Gregory says, temporarily. He tells Chase not to worry. The one thing his brother hates worse than him is failure. Finn says he doesn’t hate him, and Chase suggests Finn channel his energy into figuring out what’s wrong with Gregory.

Jason visits Sam. He asks how Kristina is, and she thanks him again for saving her life. He’s just glad she’s okay. She says maybe not okay, but she’s working on it. She has to leave, and tells Sam, feel free to make use of the privacy. Sam rushes her out.

Carly tells Ava that she’s a bit baffled as to why she put Griff on the stand. A woman as insecure as she is, letting the public know sleeping with her daughter. It’s not first time. All of Ava’s men prefer Kiki. Ava puts Avery’s backpack on the couch, and says she’ll expect Avery at the regular time tomorrow. Carly says Avery won’t be with her tomorrow. She’ll be with her family.

Maxie says Nina just found out her child is alive and well. Nina has seen her picture and knows her name, and she’s not going to contact her? Nina says, she’s not a baby; she’s grown. She doesn’t want to rip Sasha’s life away. Maxie says that makes sense, but she already knows. Won’t she want the test results? Nina says she did it thinking she’d prove she wasn’t Nina’s daughter. It isn’t always a slam dunk. Look at Peter and Anna. Maxie says, and if Nina doesn’t meet Sasha, Sasha has no chance to reject her. Might that be it?

Peter asks Griff if he’d consider working for him. Griff asks if he means as a personal physician, but Peter says, every good paper has a medical editor. He’s trying to turn The Invader into a good paper. Griff tells Peter not to take it the wrong way, but he hopes it doesn’t come to that. If it ever does, he’ll keep it in mind. He asks if Peter ever found closure. After everything that was done to him, did he find peace? Peter says, no. He did want revenge on his father, and got it, but it cost too much. Not just for him, but the people he used along the way. Peter leaves. Kiki has been listening, and looks at Griff.

Not-Doc asks how Felicia is going to protect them, and from whom? She says, the tabloids and Ryan Chamberlain groupies. They can issue a joint press release. Just a few lines, distancing themselves. One statement; their only response. Let the vultures feast elsewhere. Not-Doc asks what if they took the opportunity to guide the press? Tell the story accurately and with compassion. Felicia asks, for Ryan or the victims? and he says, everybody. She knows he believes Ryan could have been rehabilitated, but he was a monster the public wants to bring back from the dead. They can tell the truth, short and sweet, and end his notoriety and legend once and for all. Not-Doc says, all right; let’s do it. They’ll get together, and sort it out. He’ll page her. She asks if they’re back in the 90s. Not-Doc guesses the topic has put him in a time warp; he’ll text her. They’ll find someplace quiet and private, where they can think. She tells him to let her know when and where, and she’ll be there. It will be over soon; he’ll see. When she’s gone, he says, sooner than you think, Felicia.

Ava tells Carly the custody agreement is clear. If Sonny doesn’t abide by it, she’ll notify the court. Carly says the family will all line up in support of Sonny, including Kiki. She knows Ava banned Kiki from seeing Avery, and Kiki will point out her vindictive parenting style. Ava asks what’s so important about tomorrow, and Carly isn’t surprised she doesn’t remember. It’s the anniversary of Morgan’s death. Avery will be there to hear about the brother she no longer remembers. One day, Sonny will explain how Ava stole his medication and his sanity. She may as well have put him in the car. Ava says she didn’t know that would happen, and Carly says her son is dead because of Ava. Get the hell out of her house.

Nina insists she’s not afraid to meet her daughter, but her daughter might not want to meet or deal with her. Maxie can’t imagine she’d want to miss the opportunity. Peter walks in, saying he wanted to make sure Nina knew Anna was on a hunt for Obrecht. Maxie says she told Nina, like she said she would. Nina says, since he’s there, she’d like his take on something – for a friend. Her friend had to give a baby up for adoption years ago. She thought about her child all the time, and found out where she was as a grown woman, and she didn’t know she’d been adopted. Peter says, that’s tough. Nina says her friend is desperate to meet her daughter, but doesn’t want to disrupt her life. Nina wants to know his opinion. Should her friend try to have a relationship with her daughter?

Finn tells Gregory that he doesn’t think it’s life-threatening. He’s running some tests. If he’s right, they’ll figure out a course of treatment. Gregory says, as bad as it’s been, he’s happy to finally know. He’s tired of running in circles. Chase asks if there’s anything he can do, and Gregory says, join him for dinner. How about the three of them? Finn says his cases are backed up, but Gregory says, there are plenty of days ahead; pick one. Finn leaves to check on the test. Chase follows him out, and says, it’s just dinner. Finn says Chase asked him to treat their dad, and he will to the best of his ability. Chase needs to accept that’s as far as it goes.

Not-Doc is staring at Felicia’s picture on his computer, when Ava comes in. He says it’s a pleasant surprise, and she tells him, pleasant remains to be seen. He laughs, and says he has time if she’d like to talk. She says she’d like that very much, and sits down. He says she seems upset. Is it anything in particular? She tells him that she tried her hand at redemption and failed miserably. Was she wrong to want it in the first place? He says, go on. She says she did the honorable, moral, and right things, and was treated like dirt for sins she’d committed before trying to be better. He asks how she tried, and she says a good man convinced her that loving him could change her; that a better life was possible. She had hope, until he and her daughter betrayed her; humiliated her in public and in private. All the good she thought was inside is gone. He asks what’s in its place, and she says, rage. She was going to say, nothing, that she was empty and hollow, but she’s filled to capacity with nothing but rage. She needs to do something with it; something to them. She needs them to hate her as much as she hates them. She asks how crazy she sounds, and he says the way she described what she’s feeling was masterful. She asks him to tell her how to fight against revenge.

Sam brings Danny in, saying she has a surprise for him. He hugs Jason, and Sam says Danny is studying families, and how they come in all kinds of packages. She says she’ll get some snacks, and Danny can show his dad the book he made. Jason reads from the book. Some families have a mommy and daddy, some only a mommy or a daddy, some have two mommies, or two daddies. Danny says, like Uncle Lucas and Uncle Brad. Jason continues, some mommies and daddies each have their own house. Danny says, just like our family. Jason tells him, that’s right. Just like our family.

Nina tells Peter that he doesn’t have to answer. Maxie says, what Nina is trying to ask is, would it do harm to a child who’s now an adult, if the mother gets in touch after all this time? Peter doesn’t want to assume too much, since he doesn’t know the situation. This is just his opinion. His relationship with his parents was both horrific and non-existent, but he believes if love is offered to a child, it’s the child’s choice to accept it. There are no guarantees, but her friend might have comfort in telling her daughter that she cared. Nina believes it would, and Maxie says she should tell her friend. Nina says she has to get back to work.

Outside Nina’s office, Peter tells Maxie that he doesn’t know how helpful he was. She says he spoke from his heart, and it was exactly the right thing.

Not-Doc tells Ava, she says what she feels is rage, but what he hears in her voice is fear. Ava says she’s a multitasker, and can do both. He laughs, and says her anger is like a forcefield. He hopes that’s not too nerdy. Her anger is protecting her from something on the outside, but also something deep inside. What does she need protection from? She tells him that she has a recurring dream. Shrinks love dreams, right? In her dream, her baby girl is all grown up. She follows and watches Ava, and tells Ava that she sees her as she really is. Not-Doc asks, how? Ava says, ugly, scarred. Not-Doc says, that’s not true. He’s looking at her, and she’s beautiful. She asks if he has any brilliant deductions. Is Avery telling her that she’ll never escape the past bad things she’s done? All the ways she’s compromised to survive? Are the scars on her soul, if not on her face? In a typical shrink response, he asks what she thinks, and she says she doesn’t know. He thinks she does.

Finn goes back in the examining room, and Gregory says Chase went out for coffee. Finn says, that wasn’t necessary, but Gregory thinks it was. He just wanted alone time with Finn once in twenty years. He likes Anna. She’s smart and funny; great qualities in a partner. He knows Finn suffered when Reiko died, like he suffered when Finn’s mom did. He tells Finn it’s possible to find happiness again. Now Finn has moved on. Can he forgive Gregory for doing the same?

Griff watches Kiki use free weights. She asks if he’s okay, and he says, not really. They said no apologies, but – Kiki says, no buts. They slept together. They’re two consenting adults. He didn’t seduce or take advantage of her. She’s tired of pretending they didn’t want to. He can convince himself that he took advantage of her, or that she was tipsy, but it would be a lie. She invited him to her room. He says he could have not gone. Kiki says she could have done a million things, but didn’t. She wanted to be with him. Like she does now. Woo-woo.

Finn writes a prescription, and tells Gregory it should help with the discomfort. Chase comes back, and Finn tells them to enjoy dinner. He leaves, and Chase wonders what the problem is. It has to be more than Gregory getting married. Gregory says he’s been asking himself that for years. Chase is a detective; figure it out.

Ava tells not-Doc that she wants revenge on her daughter and her lover, but if they suffer the way she wants them to, it proves them right; she’s a horrible, wicked woman. If she does nothing, she has to let them go on unscathed, unpunished. How does she learn to live with it? He says, those are good questions. To be honest, not everyone is capable of tackling them with candor. He commends her. She says, for wanting to destroy her own child and boyfriend? He did save her life once. Not-Doc asks if it didn’t balance the debt when he took up with her daughter. She asks if not-Doc is saying he deserves it, but he says that’s not for him to decide. She’s surprised he’s not lecturing her about her moral failings, and wanting the wrong things. He says it’s not his job to lecture. His job is to make her hear herself, so she can decide what’s right for her. She says he’s been extraordinarily helpful, and thanks him. She’d like to see him again, and he tells her to set up a regular appointment. They can explore the concept of revenge and satisfaction together.

Maxie tells Peter that she’d passed along the information about Obrecht to Nina. Peter days he thought she might have forgotten. She says Nina’s fugitive aunt being hunted down by his spy mother? It’s not something she’d forget. He starts to excuse himself, and she tells him that he doesn’t have to bolt when he sees her.

Nina leaves a voicemail for Sasha, introducing herself, and saying she thinks Sasha met her friend, Curtis Ashford. She’s Sasha’s biological mother.

Griff is about to kiss Kiki, and says, only if she promises – she interrupts him, saying, no apologies; no promises. They start kissing passionately.

Jason tells Danny that he did a great job on the book. He learned all about families. Danny says the teacher said families are made up of people who love each other. Jason says his teacher is right, and Danny asks if Jason loves mommy.

Tomorrow, Griff tells Kiki there’s nothing stopping them, Maxie wants to know why Peter is avoiding her, and Oscar doesn’t want to go back to school.

🍹 A new episode of The Shahs of Sunset will be back next week. Tonight, Bravo took a trip down Memory Lane with the Passport Edition, which was really a repeat of Asa and Reza’s pilgrimage to the Iranian border during the Shahs’ trip to Israel. Next week is also the season finale. That was fast.

🐮 Sweet Home Oklahoma – underrated, and one of my favorites – has been rebooted, and turned into Sweet Home, premiering Friday, November 2nd, at 10 pm. The same cast will still be around, but it will focus more on Jennifer Welch – whose ex, Josh, is the only man in the world I allow a man bun – and her interior design business. 🔥 Last week was so horrendous, I forgot to watch the Hell’s Kitchen: Rookies and Veterans premiere last Friday. I know I can catch it On Demand, but I like to watch the shows fresh. No surprise, it’s going to interfere with my viewing pleasure of Z Nation, which starts tomorrow. So, unfortunately, my Kitchen is going to be a little stale this season.

September 30, 2018 – Fearing, Walking & Talking Dead & Back Again

Fear the Walking Dead

Al runs from some zombies, and tries to find a working car. She’s trapped on the street, leaps over a car, and locks herself in the nearest building. Zombies scrabble at the door. It’s a parking garage, and she breaks a car window, grabbing a radio out of it. She tries calling Morgan and June, but all she gets is static. She leans against the car for a moment, then says, you have to be sh*tting me, seeing a police van with all kinds of equipment, including a video camera. She gets a police car started, and hauls ass out of there.

Al stops, and here come Martha and zombie Jim. Martha says, he’s strong now. Al asks where everyone else is. Martha took her van, and owes her. Martha says she likes Al; she doesn’t make people weak. She’s watched Al’s energy. So many people need something, but she gave them what it took to get their stories. Al asks where her van is, and Martha says Morgan is looking for her. She wants Al to give him a message. Al says, tell him herself, and Martha lets Jim go. Al shoots Jim in the stomach, and blows another zombie’s head off who’s coming up behind her, but when she turns Martha is there, and knocks Al out with her zombie pole.

Al wakes to June saying her name. Al asks where she is; the woman who’s trying to kill them all. John says they heard her on the radio. When they didn’t find Al in the garage, they thought she must have doubled back to the hospital. Al says she saw Jim. John says, they’re all there; circling the wagons before the push to Virginia. June asks what Martha said, and Al says, the bitch said she liked her, and wanted her to deliver message to Morgan, but she wouldn’t. John says she delivered it anyway. She was used as a carrier pigeon.

On the radio, Martha tells Morgan that she’s disappointed in him. She’s given him chances to be strong, and he didn’t take any of them. Maybe it’s her fault. Maybe she wasn’t strong enough. He’ll see her again, and when he does, she’ll be stronger than ever, and make him strong too.

Sarah asks Momo where the hell in Virginia they’re going, and he says, it’s called Alexandria. There are also a few places around, more or less. Al asks about the king and his pet tiger, and Morgan promises they’ll go there. Victor says they’re going by caravan. Morgan thought they should go to Polar Bear’s truck stop first to get the boxes. Victor suggests hitting the road at dawn.

Outside on night watch, Morgan looks at the message again. John says he’ll take over. He expected to find Morgan walking away, and thought he’d have to jog after him. He knows what Morgan is up to. He’s going to run again. Morgan says, it’s not running. She’s dying. He tried to help, but she didn’t want it. Whatever happened, she thinks killing is the only way. John asks how he’s going to convince her otherwise, and Morgan says he understands her; he used to be her. John says he’ll come, but Morgan says he has to go on his own. He’s giving John directions, just in case. John says he almost got killed once before; why is he doing the same thing again? Morgan says, because he is. John says, she’s not the only one who’s stuck. Morgan says he’ll get there and meet them; hopefully with her. John says if Morgan isn’t back in two days, he’s going to look for him. They’ll be at the truck stop. He tells Morgan, some fish won’t be caught, no matter what you dangle in front of them. His gut tells him to leave them be, and he thinks it applies to Martha too. Morgan still has to try. John knows, and says Morgan might be the fish. Morgan says maybe he is, and starts to walk.

Morgan puts on the radio. He knows she’s listening, and thinks this is the only way she can be strong, but he’s telling here there’s another way. Let him try to show her. Martha responds, saying she knew he’d come looking for her. He asks where she is, and she says, mile marker 54. He’s on his way.

The others go to the truck stop, which is amazingly clean. They make coffee, and I can’t imagine how good it must taste. Charlie brushes her teeth. Victor says they can always go back to the mansion, but Alicia says, there’s nothing there for them anymore. Luci thinks they should find another place to go.

June and John get flirty among the shelves. She says, it’s like shopping at Bill’s. John doesn’t think they’re getting back there anytime soon, or his cabin. She tells him she was scared he’d realize she wasn’t who he thought. He says he knows who she is; it doesn’t matter to him. He knows her, and it doesn’t take a whole day to recognize sunshine. June wants him to know she knows who she is now; he gave that to her. She needed him. They kiss. Does this mean he’s going to die?

Morgan sees zombie Jim in a police car. He looks inside as Jim claws at the window. He lets Jim out, and pikes him in the middle of the forehead. Goodbye, Jim – for the second time. He closes Jim’s eyes, and looks around, seeing Martha lying face down in the grass. He asks if she’s armed, gets his pokey stick ready, and approaches her. He turns her over. She says, not yet, and he says his people can help her. She shoves her into the car, and she repeats, not yet. He says, no time. He’s taking her back. He drives away.

She futilely kicks at the door, and says he wasn’t supposed to see her like this. He has a pill bottle, and tells her to take them; it will clear up her infection. He asks, what was that place? What happened back there? What did she lose? He tells her, it’s a long trip; talking might help. John calls on the radio. Morgan says he found her, and he’s bringing her back. Martha asks where he’s taking her, and he says, Mississippi. He loses the signal with John.

John says he never should have let Morgan go. Sarah says if Morgan’s got ears, he can hear them, but his signal won’t get there until he’s closer. Al messes with the van engine, saying, smiley, rode the engine without coolant. She puts some in the van. Two zombies approach, and she tries to get out the weapon strapped to her leg, but she gets shaky, and keels over. Alicia shoots them. June and Victor run to Al, and Alicia says, get her inside. They’re going to have more company.

Martha sighs, and tells Morgan, her husband… Morgan asks his name, and she says, Hank. Morgan asks, what happened to him? Martha tells him back when everything was starting, they were trying to get out of the city. She was driving. Someone was weaving in and out of traffic, trying to get ahead; get theirs. and they clipped the car. Her hank needed her help, and she didn’t know what to do. She went out to the road to flag someone down, but no one stopped; no one pulled over to help. Morgan says it wasn’t her fault, but Martha says, he needed her to be strong, and she wanted to be. Morgan says he knows what she thinks, but it’s not true. She’s stuck. June radios, telling Morgan, Al got sick. They thought she had what she had before, but it’s not just her; it’s all of them. I’m thinking it’s the coffee. June says, something’s not right. She tells him get back. He loses her, but says he’s on his way back. He tells Martha to hang on. She wants him to pull over, and he says he can’t. She says she’ll take the medicine, but when he opens the partition to give it to her, she grabs his arm, and the car runs into the side of a mountain.

Morgan keeps slipping in and out of consciousness. Martha says she told him that she was going to make him strong. She writes on his face. He comes to, and sees a metal pipe has been driven into his leg. He says it doesn’t have to end this way for them. She laughs. On his forehead, it says, I lose people – I lose myself. She says it does for her. She made sure he couldn’t help them. Now kill her, or she kills him. He says he doesn’t kill. I’d start right about now if I was him. He says he has to get to them. She says he’ll never make it, but he says he has to try; not for them, for him. He’s scared if they die, he’ll become what he used to be. That’s why he left. He hears them on the radio, and Martha asks why he came to find her. He says she was on her own, and needed help. He knew she wouldn’t take it. He’s been where she is. She says he’s still there. Whatever is getting worse, always will be, unless he tries to be strong. Let her make him strong.

Everyone at the truck stop looks like they have food poisoning. June says they have to keep hydrated, and realizes the caps on the water aren’t sealed. They used the water to make the coffee, and had also been drinking it. She tells them, all the seals have been broken. Someone poisoned them. Al says, she did.

June radios that Martha put something in the water. Martha admits it’s true. She did it the last time she was there. She didn’t know him, but it was like saying that’s what you get for helping. He asks what it is, and she says, it doesn’t matter. There’s nothing they can do. He asks again what it is, and she tells him, antifreeze. Morgan gets the radio, and tells the others. Martha says they can’t hear him. He can’t help them. They are going to die, and there’s nothing he can do. He slams her down, and squeezes her throat. She says, now he’s strong. Morgan thinks of them, all dead, and squeezes tighter. He sees himself in the cars side mirror, and lets go. He says he won’t. She says, they’re going to die, and there’s nothing he can do. He says, yes, there is, and pulls the rod out of his leg. Martha says he’s going to be strong; they both will. He drags her up, and handcuffs her to the car, and she wails. He says he won’t kill her, but he’s not letting her kill after she’s turned. She yells, it’s not supposed to be this way. He starts walking, leaving her cuffed to the car.

Morgan walks through the woods. He asks if anyone can hear him on the radio.

Alicia rubs Charlie’s head. Everyone is looking pretty bad.

Morgan hotwires a car. A pretty nice car, for being out in the middle of nowhere after a hurricane.

Al sets up her video camera. She fast forwards through the videos and smiles a little, a tear trickling down her cheek.

The nice car doesn’t work very well, and Morgan starts walking again. He falls, but tries to pull himself back up.

Al laughs over a video of a father with his child, and cries some more. Morgan radios again.

The zombies are getting more restless at the truck stop. Al says she’s not letting that bitch beat her. She radios Morgan, saying if he’s out there, tell Martha she’s coming for her. He can hear Al, but she can’t hear him. He pulls himself up. I say, Morgan, you got this, and SHE HEARS HIM. Al copies, and he tells her its antifreeze. June says the antidote is ethanol. Sarah says all they have to do is get to it; it’s in the truck. Al laughs, and John asks, what are they waiting for? Al tells Morgan that they’ll be okay. Get his ass back there. He says he’s on his way.

Al unlocks the door. John asks if everybody is ready. June bangs on a window to get the zombies traveling in that direction. John gets his gun out, and says, now! For being sick people, they come out guns blazing, and pokey things stabbing. Sarah falls, Alicia helps her out, and they squeak by. Victor gets to the truck first, and tries to get the dispenser open, but the valve is stuck. June keeps banging, but the zombies get closer. Al gets the top of the van opened, where the arsenal is, and blasts the crowd. This is great, but she also shot at the dispenser, and it all pours out.

Morgan asks how it’s going. June says, they lost what was in the truck, but he says there has to be more. June says, no one is in any shape to get it, but he says they have to find a way. John doesn’t think it’s going to happen. Morgan says he can’t lose any of them. He can’t go back to what he was. He almost did. John says, but he didn’t, and Morgan says he will; he’s not strong enough. John says Morgan is the strongest person he knows. He’s still going to be him, whether they’re here or not. People out there need him. Morgan loses the signal, and tosses the radio. A few zombies come his way, and he gets savage on them.

Al makes a video, saying, whoever finds these, keep them safe. Make sure they survive; make sure they matter. Sarah asks, what’s the final count? How many meat puppets did they take out? Wen says, not enough. Victor says, just when he stopped trying to drink himself to death, he succeeds.  Alicia and Charlie say something about second chances, but I think the boom person stepped out of the room. The zombies suddenly start moving away, and we hear…

Morgan, who limps in. John says he came back, and Morgan says he told him that he would. He says, ethanol is just a fancy word for alcohol, right? He made a stop along the way. He runs outside, and we see the Augie’s Ale truck, and gives everyone a beer. Sarah says, that’s twice Jim saved them. Here’s to you, a–hole. Victor tells Alicia that he thought he didn’t have anyone to share a drink with anymore, and they both drink. John tells Charlie, it’s a onetime deal, and not to get poisoned again until she’s twenty-one. Luci says she gets it, and toasts to the heavens. I presume to Nick.

Morgan sees himself in the bathroom mirror, and washes the words off of his face. I guess it wasn’t indelible ink.

He goes back to the car, and sees Martha’s arm hanging from the cuff. The rest of her is toddling down the road. Morgan comes up behind her, and taps his stick. She turns around, and he pikes her in the head with another forehead bullseye. Being the kind dude he is, he buries her.

Wen asks if they can get going, but Morgan says they’re not going there; at least he’s not. He says, that woman. She was the way she was because no one stopped to help when she needed it. There’s more like her out there. Everyone looks sad, and he asks if they still have Polar Bear’s journals.

The group walks down a hill, and Morgan says, Polar Bear tried to set up a system that lasts. The supplies, the fuel, the trucks even, all came from here. We see a big building with a waterfall in front of it. He says, it used to be a denim factory. Before, Polar Bear made deliveries there, and after, he set up shop there because it’s out of the way. Sarah says. I don’t need new dungarees, Momo. He says, no one is being forced to stay. Luci tells Sarah that she wants to make up for what she did to Clayton; here’s where she starts. Alicia says, it can’t be just about the boxes. She wants to do what her mom did. Build this into something more. Victor asks where they find these people? They’re in short supply. Al says she has interviews with people all over, and some aren’t doing so hot. They can start with them.

Thy group comes back with a caravan. John thinks they can be found there; it’s a good place to start. Sarah says, let’s boogie, and they load their weapons. Morgan says they’re ready; let’s go. They pull into the factory lot.

Morgan takes the radio, and says he doesn’t know if anyone is out there or listening, but if they are, hang in there. We’re coming for you.

This was the finale, so next time, The Walking Dead. Negan says, a new world is being built. Not a future monument to the dead. They’re not safe from the world. They’re just getting it ready for him.

💀 On Talking Dead, we found out that Gerret Dillahunt’s (John) grandfather was the one who said, it doesn’t take a whole day to recognize sunshine. Gerret asked that the original line be changed to that. Sweet! They also called the zombies that Morgan took out on his way back to the truck stop, the Whack-A-Momo Walkers, which I thought was pretty funny. And an audience member got to go home with Martha’s arm. That show gives the best swag.

General Hospital

Lucy tells Mac she wants to have lunch with him, Felicia, and Doc. They’re just having a friendly get together with old friends.

Chase is sorry to interrupt Anna. She says it’s her pleasure, but he says there’s nothing pleasant about it. The WSB has a lead on Obrecht.

Peter sees Ryan pretending to be Doc at the hospital. He says he’s heard Doc treats trauma survivors, and he needs help.

At the MetroCourt, Franco and Ava sit at the bar. She’s sold one of his paintings, and he guesses they’re having another truce. Ava says, a lucrative one, and gives him the check. She says there was a bidding war between collectors of the macabre. Now he can give Elizabeth her dream wedding. He toasts to dream weddings, and Ava toasts to true love.

Kiki sees Griff at the hospital, and asks if his suspension is over. He says he just came in to finish up some things. Maxie approaches, telling Kiki that she has a proposition. Griff says he’s late for a meeting, and leaves. Maxie asks Kiki if everything is okay, and she says it’s just hospital stuff. She asks what the proposition is, and Maxie asks how she’d like to appear in Crimson?

Lulu thanks Felicia for meeting her, and asks if it’s okay to record their conversation. She tells Felicia that it’s okay if she changed her mind. She knows the memories are painful. Felicia says it didn’t stop her from wanting to dig them up. She’s the sole survivor of Ryan Chamberlain’s killing spree, and she’s speaking out for those who no longer can.

Jason tells Sam that he knows about Oscar. She asks who told him, and he says he ran into Oscar on the pier. He was upset, so he let Oscar talk. Sam asks if Oscar told Jason that he’s dying. Jason says Oscar walking in on a meeting between his parents and the oncologist. He feels betrayed. It’s his life and he felt his parents had no right to keep the truth from him. Sam says, he has a point. Jason says it took a while to calm him down, but he got Oscar to call his parents. Sam says Oscar is lucky he ran into Jason.

Chase tells Anna that he got a message from Robert to pass along. She wonders why Robert would call Chase, and he says he’s the PCPD liaison for the WSB. Robert couldn’t reach herm and asked him to deliver it in person. Anna sees she missed a message and a text. She tell him, go on, but he says he’s not privy to the details; it’s outside the PCPD jurisdiction. She says she’ll call back, and find out who the operative is. She apologizes for being curt. It’s her exasperation with Robert. It’s like old times.

Maxie tells Kiki it took guts to take on David, and they want to showcase her power in a fashion spread, along with an article, and celebrate her strength and beauty. Kiki doesn’t know if that’s the way to go, but Maxie says she spoke truth to power. Crimson wants to show that beautiful women aren’t subject to harassment. Kiki made a bold, inspirational choice; a public choice. Let Crimson honor her.

Felicia tells Lulu that people go on about the murders like it was Ryan’s great achievement, but the man was evil. He’s dead, and deserves to be forgotten. Lulu promises to make sure the public knows the names of the victims, and gets a sense of who were. Felicia is concerned about a monster becoming a pop icon, but Lulu says the purpose is to take away the mystery. Felicia says they want to dive into his psyche like he should be somebody. He would love the attention.

Maxie tells Kiki it’s a powerful message that needs to be heard and seen. She can make an impact on women suffering the same battles day in and out.

Peter tells not-Doc that he just needs a prescription for something to sleep without nightmares. Maxie joins them, and says she hopes not-Doc is giving him help. She asks if he told not-Doc about the panic attack. Not-Doc says he had no idea Peter was so important to Maxie. Peter says he’s not, and its complicated. Not-Doc says Maxie’s mother is one of his oldest, dearest friends. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Felicia. He says he’ll be happy help Peter sort out his demons, and tells him to make an appointment. He can’t write a prescription without a session. There, they’ll determine the best plan of attack. He excuses himself, saying he’s meeting Mac and Felicia for lunch. Maxie asks Peter if he’s still having panic attacks, or is he trying to get a prescription for other reasons? What’s going on?

Lulu tells Felicia that she wants to help. She can’t stop the avalanche of media attention, but was hoping if Felicia maps out what she’s going to say, they’ll get ahead, and she’ll be protected. Felicia asks how Lulu can protect her, and Lulu says she’ll print it word for word, the way Felicia wants. Felicia says she has to go meet Mac and Doc for lunch, but she wants Lulu to know she’s not Ryan’s victim. He came after her, but he didn’t get her. He lost, and she won. He’s dead, and she survived. She gets to have the life he tried to take from her, and she’ll never be his victim again.

Lucy tells Mac the old gang is getting together; like the good old days. Mac says, very old, and Lucy says, and very good. It’s been a while, and Doc needs their company. She got the weirdest vibe, and didn’t like it. Laura should be there; she’s been gone a long time. She thinks Doc is feeling the effects of her absence. It’s up to them to life his spirits.

Franco asks if Ava is still licking her wounds. She says they’re fresh wounds; her daughter’s claws are sharp. She went to make amends, and tells Kiki that she means more to her than any man could. Franco says, impressive, and asks how she screwed it up. When she got there, Kiki was half-dressed, along with Griff. Her boyfriend just moved in down the hall. The one night mistake keeps going.

Kiki asks Griff if he’d like to go to lunch. He’s been there for her, and she wants to be there for him. He says, Maxie seemed excited; what did she want? Kiki says she had a crazy idea to do a fashion spread with her. A powerful women in powerful clothes follow-up to #GHTOO. Griff thinks it’s a good idea, but she says she has a hard enough time being taken seriously at work. He says she doesn’t have to choose. He thinks she should do whatever she wants, but doesn’t think she should hide how beautiful she is. They decide to meet at the MetroCourt.

When Chase is gone, Finn says Anna is going after Obrecht, isn’t she. She tells him the WSB is capable. She’s not interfering. She just got back from a kidnapping. Finn says he was there. He tells her Cassandra is out there, but she says the drugs have probably worn off, and she’s in a coma again. Finn says she wants to do this herself, and she says he’s right. It will make her crazy if someone else finds her. He says he’s coming along, but she says he has his patients. He says his father’s life isn’t at risk; hers is. She asks him not to make her sneak out. Peter could be in danger, and she’d like Finn to keep an eye on him. They kiss.

Sam says it’s great that Oscar can talk to Jason. He doesn’t know how much good he did. The kid has more questions than answers. Sam says he’s not comfortable, and when he does something uncomfortable and supportive, he acts like it’s an accident. She hopes he knows giving Oscar a safe place to talk about hard stuff is a gift. He says he promised not to tell anyone, and Sam says Kim kept the truth from Oscar, and now the instinct is to keep the truth from everyone else. Jason says he gave his word; he has to keep it. Sam says it’s tearing him up, and eventually everyone who loves Oscar will find out, and be heartbroken.

Griff visits Anna, and tells her that he had to hand off patients at the hospital. It’s been a rough month or so. His access to sacraments was revoked. The monsignor believed he was performing duties related to the priesthood after he gave up the collar. She asks if she can help, but he doesn’t think so. He was leaving the hospital when it hit him. He’s without an occupation or a vocation. He didn’t know where to go, so he came there. He knows he kept the information that Peter was Faison’s son from her. She wishes he’d told her, but she can’t resent him looking out for Peter. He says sometimes he thinks he’s doing the right thing, and it tuns out to be a bigger mistake. His moral compass is spinning.

Peter is grateful for Maxie’s help, but they don’t work together anymore. Maxie says, he’s asking her to stay out of his life? Where has she heard that before?

Chase sees Finn at the hospital, and Finn asks, what’s going on? Chase he’s been given a tiny window to see into how Finn felt when his mom got sick. He feels better knowing Finn is the one taking care of dad. He thanks Finn.

Not-Doc sees Lucy and Mac sitting at a table, and Ava at the bar. He says Ava is as beautiful as ever. She turns around, and he apologizes, saying from the back, she looked like Felicia. Franco gives him the side-eye.

Lulu complains to Maxie that she can’t get into the medical records archive to look into Ryan, and Maxie tells her it’s not a library. Lulu says she needs a legal release from the next of kin. She hates bothering Doc, but she met with Felicia who had a great take on the story. Maxie wants to know about the confab between her and Peter. Was Lulu telling him to avoid her?

Franco introduces not-Doc to Ava, who says they’ve met. He apologizes for the mistake. Felicia comes in, and hugs him, saying they have so much to catch up on. Lucy runs up. She’s tells them she’s so excited, and grabs not-Doc, taking him to the table. Ava asks what’s up with Doc. Is he self-medicating? Franco says they all have their own medicines.

Felicia tells them about Lulu wanting to interview her about Ryan. Not-Doc says he thought that was a difficult subject, and Lucy thinks it should be put in the past. Mac says, serial killers are all the rage now. Not-Doc says his brother had a special kind of genius, and Lucy says, evil genius. But everything he lacked in kindness, compassion, and being human, Doc made up for. Felicia says it sickens her. He was a sick, empty shell of a human, but she’s now living the life he tried to take. She doesn’t have to worry about him touching her again. Not-Doc takes her hand, and it’s a pretty creepy moment.

Lulu tells Maxie that she didn’t tell Peter to avoid her specifically. Maxie asks what she did say specifically, and Lulu says she told him that his constant presence was muddying the water, and to stay as far away as possible. Let her live her life. Maxie appreciates Lulu’s intentions, but tells her, butt out. Lulu was just trying to help, but she gets it. They’re Maxie’s waters to muddy, and she’s not even dipping her little toe in.

Finn sees Peter at the hospital, and tells him that Anna has already packed a bag, and is going after Obrecht. Peter is surprised, and Finn thought Anna told him. He says she left a voicemail, but he hasn’t had a chance to check it out. He asks if there aren’t any other agents, and Finn says she’s the only one determined to protect him. How many times does she have to risk her before it’s okay? He wants to know when she can quit making amends.

Anna tells Griff she’s made worse mistakes than he has. She asks if he’s ever committed treason. She has, and should have been before a firing squad. They have people in their lives that they love, and their mistakes hang over them. Maybe she’s committed crimes, but she’s still done good, and tries to hang on to that. He says she’s saved more people than she’s hurt, and she says, so has he. He asks what he’s supposed to do? Wait and see? She says, even if the worst happens, his life isn’t over. He’s made big changes. He left the priesthood, and had a relationship; a whole one, with a beginning, middle, and end.  Who’s to say a seismic shift wasn’t what he needed. He says she’s comparing his life to an earthquake, and she says, after an earthquake, you rebuild. They’ve both been running away from things they should have been running toward. He should stop and look around at life. See where he’s at. He says he feels lost, and she says he’s not. He’s still the same generous, giving person he’s always been. He’s dedicated his life to serving others. Maybe it’s time he just stopped for a minute and figures out what he wants back from the world. He says, how? and she says he needs to ask himself what he should be running toward.

Ava tells Franco that Kiki took Griff’s side while he said horrible things. She shouldn’t have listened to Julian. Franco asks if she’s just figuring that out now. She says, no more. She’s washing her hands of her daughter. Kiki walks in, and Ava says, speak of the devil. She says, isn’t this cozy? and Franco says, great timing. Ava wonders if living down hall isn’t good enough for them to see each other. Franco tells her this isn’t a good idea. Griff thinks they should leave, but Kiki isn’t running, and tells him, let’s take a seat.

Peter calls Anna, and leaves a message to stay safe. He sees Maxie, and says there’s a lead on Obrecht. Maybe she should warn Nina in case Obrecht wants to throw her under the bus about the kidnapping. Maxie says Obrecht wants him dead. What if she comes back to finish the job? Is he safe?

Sam says Monica has lost so many people she loves, and she and Oscar have bonded.  It’s going to devastate her. Jason says she’s right. He has to be present, especially for Monica. Sam say she was terrified when Danny was sick, but she knew he’d be okay. She had that instinct, and she was right. She doesn’t know what Drew and Kim are facing is like. What it’s like to know there’s no cure.

Ava tells Franco that Kiki is trying to deliberately humiliate her in public. He tells her to let the martini do its job. She says she’d need more than one; more like five. He says she and Kiki love each other, and will remember that at some point, but she doesn’t think so; not this time. Her daughter is sleeping with the man she loved, and is rubbing her face in it. She knows what she’s doing, and knows there will be retribution. Anyone who hurts her, gets hurt in return. They’ll see who’s left standing. Whatever happens, Kiki asked for it.

Anna sees Finn at the hospital. She has him to thank, and shows him her phone. He asks if she means her calling plan or phone; both are not his first choice. She says she got a message from her son telling her to stay safe. It’s genuine concern. He says he’s come a long way from trying to shoot her. Not baby steps; leaps and bounds. She kisses him, and he says it wasn’t sufficient, but she’s not making out in the hall. She says they’re finally standing still long enough not to run away from each other. They kiss some more.

Peter doesn’t know if anyone is safe with Obrecht on the loose. Maxie tell him she’s pretty sure she is. Anna is going after Obrecht. She would do everything and anything to protect Peter. He doesn’t know if Obrecht still wants him dead, but better safe than sorry. Maxie knows Obrecht cares in a special way about her, James, and Nina, and has a frenemy bond with Anna. She would never admit it, but it’s there. She asks Peter to let her know if he hears anything, and she’ll pass it along to Nina.

Lucy is determined to lift not-Doc’s spirits. She says Felicia showed her an adorable picture of James. Not-Doc seems puzzled at the name, and Lucy says he’s Felicia’s grandson. She tells him that he only gets like this when he’s coming down with something. Felicia suggests they cut the lunch short. If he is coming down with something, she doesn’t want to risk it with the baby. They’ll do this another time. She and Mac leave. Lucy tells not-Doc while Laura is away, he’s been working himself ragged. She’s going to get him back on track. She knows when he’s not himself.

Jason tells Sam maybe they can do something at the Quartermaine’s this weekend. Bring the kids, and spend the afternoon with Monica. Sam says Danny should like it too. Why do they keep doing this to themselves? Having to be reminded of how precious time is, and spending every moment afraid to lose who they love. He says they have to find balance. She tells him that she doesn’t him for granted, and he says he doesn’t take her for granted either.

On Monday, Nina can’t get past the thing with Peter, Mike talks to Carly, and Margaux tells Jason that Sonny pulled the trigger and his father helped clean it up.

General Hospital

Carly tells Jason it’s been a crazy day. He asks if Josslyn is okay, and she says it’s her first real relationship. Girls agonize over everything, while guys are oblivious. Jason wants to fill her in; Sonny was questioned by the commissioner and the DA. The situation about the body is getting worse.

Brad needs to talk to Julian – now. Julian asks if Brad is okay, but Brad says he’s beyond not okay. Julian tells him, calm down. Brad says after everything they did, Lucas still wants to find Wiley’s birth mother.

Jordan meets Stella at the MetroCourt. Stella ordered a glass of wine for her, but Jordan suggests a bottle. Stella says she could do that; she’s had some real tearjerker cases today. Jordan appreciates Stella making time for her. Stella is curious about what she has to say.

Valentin meets Curtis on the docks. Curtis cheeked both labs, but there are no DNA results yet. He paid for them to be expedited, as Valentin wanted, so it shouldn’t be long before they know if Sasha is Nina’s daughter.

Nina and Charlotte breeze into Charlie’s with a bunch of shopping bags. Charlotte says she has too many new clothes, and Nina says there’s no such thing. She’s a different size now, and it’s the time of year when she has to be prepared for the change of seasons. Charlotte is glad Nina took her shopping. Nina says Charlotte is her favorite person, and she had a fun time doing it. She asks Charlotte if something is wrong, and Charlotte is concerned this is the last time they’ll get to do this.

Kim tells Oscar that his symptoms are going to get exponentially worse. He asks, how much worse? Drew says that’s why they were meeting Terry. She might have a treatment option. Oscar wants to know how much worse; what’s going to happen to him? Is he dying? Kim says she didn’t want him to find out like this. He says she’s scaring him. Answer, yes or no. Is he dying from this? Kim says his cancer could be fatal, and she holds him.

Carly asks Jason if he thinks they’ll find something to tie Mike to the explosion. He says they suspect him, and think he has a motive. He tells her that they identified the body. It’s Vincent Marino, who was Joe Skully’s lawyer. Carly says, and Sonny is connected to Skully. She asks if they have any physical evidence, and he says the bullet that was used was the same as the one used in a hit on one of Skully’s men. They were both from same gun. She asks where the gun is, but he says they don’t know.

Brad tells Julian that Wiley has a heart defect. It might heal on its own, but it’s inherited, and it’s not indicated on the birth mother’s medical history.

Nina asks why Charlotte thinks that. She says they’re getting a divorce; Nina doesn’t love them anymore. Nina says of course she loves Charlotte. It’s a grown up thing between her and Charlotte’s papa. She’s sorry it’s going to affect Charlotte, since she won’t be living there. Charlotte asks why Nina stopped loving her papa.

Valentin tells Curtis to let him know if he finds out anything else. Curtis doesn’t feel good about it. They’re going down deeper and digging more. Nina should know she has a daughter. Valentin says they’ll let her know as soon as they find out. Curtis agrees to wait around until they know if the DNA is a match. If it’s not, he’s out. This is wrong.

Stella asks Jordan if this is phase two of the campaign to win her over. Jordan says phase one went wrong, and Stella says, so she admits there’s a campaign. Jordan says she admits to a sincere desire to make peace. The counseling was Curtis’s idea. It was well intended, but didn’t work out well. Stella says it was a hot mess. Jordan says that’s why she didn’t pursue a follow-up. They both got critical of each other’s lives. Stella says she does have one of her own. Jordan says she knows that, and they both said brutal things. That’s why she asked Stella to meet her; to apologize for her part, and clear the slate of bad feelings and past accusations. They can forge a new relationship starting today. Stella says, in other words, she should forget Jordan is the reason Thomas is dead.

Kim asks Oscar to sit; they need to talk. He shakes his head, and says talking won’t change anything. It won’t make his tumor disappear. Kim knows, and she’s sorry. That’s why she should have been the one to tell him. He asks why she didn’t. She asks who did, and Drew asks how he found out. Oscar says, what does it matter? They’re worried about how he found out, and he’s worried about how long he has to live. Kim says his condition is serious, and they’re exploring treatment. That’s why they met with Terry. She told them about a medical trial. He’s a good candidate, and it’s coming up before the end of the year. She’s going to submit him. Drew says, it’s not fair, but they’re taking it one step at time. They’re here for him, and they’ll figure it out. Oscar guesses it’s good they caught it sooner than later. He asks if it was discovered when Jason brought him in. It’s quiet, and he says his mom said he had hypoglycemia; how long has she known? Kim says, it’s not that simple, and he says, sure it is. Just tell him how long.

Jordan knows that Stella holds her accountable for Thomas’s death, but she wants to lay the past to rest. The only way is to move forward. She wants to do it for Curtis and TJ. One thing she and Stella can agree on is they own their hearts. Stella has to admit Curtis loves Jordan. Jordan asks if Stella can’t set her anger aside, and work to be the family they need. Stella says she just can’t.

Brad tells Julian that Lucas wants Alexis to reach out, and inform the birth mother, asking why they weren’t aware of the possibility. Julian asks if Lucas has contacted Alexis yet, and Brad says he had to wait until Lucas fell asleep to come over. He’s calling first thing in the morning, and it will be over. Julian asks what if Wiley inherited it from the birth father?

Jason explains to Carly how Mike moved the body into the trunk of his car, saw the gun, and got it. Carly says she can’t imagine it. Mike digging up the body of someone his son killed, and his mistake could land Sonny in prison. Jason says that’s exactly why Sonny thinks Mike is having difficulty remembering. It’s not just the Alzheimer’s. When Sonny killed someone, he crossed the line. He chose the business and everything that comes with it. It’s not what Mike wanted, and he blames himself. He’s stuck remembering, but not remembering. Carly tells Jason that Sonny was always the way he is, and not because of Mike. Once he went down that path, he was never going to stop. Jason says that’s the same thing Sonny told Mike. Now a mistake he made at eighteen has come back to destroy him. Mike remembers taking the gun, but not what he did with it. Carly says Mike was smart enough to move it. He must have known better than to put it with the body. Jason says they can’t be certain. Unless Mike remembers. Carly says there’s becoming less of a chance with the Alzheimer’s. She asks if there’s anything else to worry about, and Jason says, yes. Margaux is Vincent Marino’s daughter.

Brad tells Julian that Lucas understands that Wiley will probably grow out of his condition, but he wants more information. It would be a biological miracle for the birth mother to have the same condition. The truth is coming out, and they’re running out of time.

Carly asks if Jason means the DA; her father is the guy in the basement? She hates Sonny already; this will be an all-out war. She asks what they can do, and Jason says, nothing. No speeding, no jaywalking, no fighting in public. Carly says she doesn’t do that – much. Jason says Margaux will use anyone close to Sonny as leverage. Carly thanks him for the heads up. He says she told him it was a crazy day; what happened? She tells him that Brad and Lucas found out Wiley has the same heart condition Michael had when he was a baby. In soap timing, Michael walks in and asks, what about him as a baby?

Valentin asks if Curtis is just stopping the investigation. Curtis thinks Nina should know she has a daughter, and know she’s alive. Valentin asks if he’s just going to quit if the first lead doesn’t pan out. Curtis says he already voiced his concern, but Valentin isn’t listening; he’s out. Valentin says they’ll tell her when they get more information. Curtis says it’s not about that. Valentin wants his marriage back; Curtis gets that. But instead of telling Nina, he wants to orchestrate a reunion, betting Nina will be so grateful, she’ll come running back. He needs to tell her now. Valentin says he’s telling her nothing until they get the DNA results back. Curtis says he’ll go that far, but regardless of the results, Valentin still needs to tell Nina that she had a child who survived. Valentin says she’ll just agonize while they search. It’s crueler than saying nothing. Curtis disagrees. Valentin hears him, and says they’ll reassess their agreement when the DNA test comes back. He values Curtis’s work. Curtis says he’s doing it for Nina, and no other reason. Valentin says, the same goes for him.

Nina explains to Charlotte that she and Charlotte’s papa just can’t agree on some things. So instead of fighting, and being mad and sad, they decided not be married. Charlotte asks if Nina doesn’t miss him, and Nina says she misses Charlotte. She changes the subject, telling Charlotte that she has a knack of putting the right outfit together. Charlotte says she likes trying things on when they’re at home; when it’s quiet with just them. She wises Nina and her papa had a baby. She’d love to have a little brother or sister. Nina wishes she had some apple pie, and goes to order it. She hears Brad telling Julian that they can stop this before he and Lucas lose their son.

Kim tells Oscar that she’s known for two years. He says she knew before they moved, and didn’t tell him he was sick. She covered it up, and never said one word. Kim asks him to let her explain, but he tells her nothing she can say will change that he has cancer. She never told him. He starts moving to the door, and Kim asks him not to leave. Drew says he has every right to be upset, but calm down, and let his mother explain. She says she wanted to protect him, and let him live a happy, normal life. He says maybe she was trying to protect herself. She couldn’t face the truth, and kept it from him. Drew says, she did what she thought was right. Oscar says he hates what she’s done. He hates her. Of course Drew is going to take her side. How long has he known? Drew says he learned about it after Oscar was admitted to the hospital. His mom said they’d tell him after his birthday. Oscar says, happy birthday to me. Kim says she convinced Drew to wait. Oscar says tell him everything. He wants to know now.

Michael brings in some cookies for Mike, and asks Carly, what about him as a baby? She says, it’s the strangest thing. Wiley has the same heart condition that he did. He doesn’t need an operation, but what are the odds? Michael says there are two hundred thousand cases a year.

Brad suggests Julian convince the birth mother to say she had a heart condition as a child. It corrected itself, and she forgot until they brought it up. They have to plan now, so when the lawyers ask questions, their secret will be safe.

Stella tells Jordan that she’s prayed about it. She tried to meet Jordan halfway, but when she looks at Jordan, she thinks of Thomas smiling on their wedding day, trusting her, and the gaping hole it left in their lives. On her deathbed, Stella’s sister was grieving. Jordan asked her to put it in the past, and start fresh. She has to be honest; she can’t do it. Jordan says, then she’s a hypocrite. She’s a social worker. She helps people who are struggling, people who are broken, and she won’t even try to fix her own family. Stella says she keeps her professional and personal life separate. That’s why she doesn’t burst into tears every time she has a case that’s heartbreaking. She’ll make sure to schedule work the day of the wedding. She thinks they both agree it’s best she doesn’t attend. It will hurt Curtis if she doesn’t show, but they don’t want her there. Jordan says not if she sits there disapproving. Stella says Jordan can tell herself whatever she wants, but she set the events in motion. She’s the cause of why Thomas and his mother are no longer in this world. She gets up and heads for the elevator, but Curtis has arrived. He asks, what’s going on? Stella says she can’t keep lying to him, or herself. She doesn’t think it’s appropriate for her to attend their wedding. He wants to talk about it, but she says there’s nothing left to talk about. She’s sorry, but she has to leave before she causes a scene. She jets, and he asks Jordan, what happened?

Oscar asks Kim if that’s why they moved, to be close to a good hospital?  She says they came because she did an ancestry search, and saw he had family in the area. She wanted him to get to know them, and for them to know him. She never thought they’d find his father. Drew says getting to know Oscar has been one of the greatest gifts of his life. Oscar says, the gift is about to expire. He should buy a ticket to Mt. Kilimanjaro before it’s too late.

Charlotte likes Nina’s necklace, and asks where other half is. Nina doesn’t know; she’s trying to find out. They split their desserts, and Valentin comes in.

Curtis asks what went down; they both seem steamed. Jordan says her relationship with Stella was barely on life support, and it’s the same song, second verse. They started off okay, but she brought up the wedding, and Stella said she can’t come. She just laid it out there, saying Thomas and his mom are dead because Jordan set it in motion. Stella can’t get past it. She’s sorry she asked him to join them. She thought it would be a reconciliation, not a train wreck. He’s proud of her effort. It means the world to him, even if it didn’t pan out. Jordan says Stella made it clear she wouldn’t change her mind, but will he? Stella won’t be at the wedding, but what about holidays and family celebrations. Can he live with Stella shunning them for the rest of her life?

Julian tells Brad, it will only make things worse. He should push his luck, lying about the medical history. It’s bad enough that Wiley’s health has been called into question, but the birth mother’s baby died, and she has no idea. Brad says he’ just desperate; trying to keep his family together. Clearly, Julian is not going to help. He has to try and talk Lucas out of calling the lawyers. Julian says, like hell he will.

Michael says Kim was clear that Jonah didn’t die from a heart condition. He’s glad they caught Wiley’s. Carly says, Brad and Lucas are relieved. She can’t imagine an infant having heart surgery, Michael is like, um… and she says she was unconscious. Jason made the decision. The first of many. Jason says it was difficult, but he took the option with the best odds of saving Michael’s life. That was the easy part. The hard part was the actual thought of surgery on a tiny baby. It scared him worse than anything he’d ever faced. He made it, and Jason thanked God he didn’t need to second guess himself. Carly says when she woke up, he told her, and she was overwhelmed. She knew she had to get out of Port Charles, and took off. She knew Michael would be safe with Jason, and Jason would take care of him. Jason flashes back to when Michael was a baby, telling him that he gives his word, and nothing will break it. Jason says he promised God he’d look after Michael, and always protect him. Michael says he’s lucky to have Jason, but Jason says he’s the lucky one.

Kim tells Oscar she’s a doctor. She knows the quality of life is harsh for patients in treatment, and she didn’t want to start that. Oscar says it must be bad if she’s that worried. She says she had a plan, but he doesn’t care. Her good intentions failed; she betrayed him. Drew did too whether it was weeks or years, he was being kept in the dark. It was cruel for them to make him think he had a future, when he’s on borrowed time. College is a joke. I guess he has a point here. Instead of filling out applications and touring campuses, he could have been climbing mountains. Kim tells him, don’t give up hope. Oscar says he’ll hang onto that. He can’t trust either of them. He starts to leave, Kim tries to keep him there, and they struggle.

Valentin sits with Nina and Charlotte, and asks if they’re having late night sweets. Charlotte says she’ll be right back, and Valentin thanks Nina for taking her. Nina thanks him for letting her, and Valentin says she’s a central part of Charlotte’s life. He hopes it stays that way; no matter what. He says he understands, and Nina wishes he did. Charlotte comes back, and thanks Nina. Nina thanks her for the incredible time. Nina leaves, and Valentin tells Charlotte, what a coincidence. He didn’t have dessert.  Nina watches them through the window.

Curtis says he loves Jordan. That’s never going to change. It’s awful that Stella won’t be at the wedding, but she can still change her mind. A lot can happen between now and then. Jordan says he still believes in miracles, and Curtis says Jordan said she would marry him. They kiss. I miss original Jordan, but I’m warming up to this one. Hey, Curtis likes her, and I’m no Stella.

Carly says Jason and Michael are going to make her cry. Michael is surprised there was no indication that Wiley was a risk. Jason says maybe the birth mother didn’t know. Maybe the condition came from the birth father.

Brad can’t believe Julian won’t help. Julian says he is. Brad hasn’t heard a Plan B, and Julian says, there is; do nothing. How is he going to explain fighting Lucas? Under normal circumstances, wouldn’t he want the full history. Brad says, these are not normal circumstances. Julian tells him, go home, and do nothing. Meddling will only raise suspicion.

Oscar pushes Kim away. He says he can’t look at her right now. He leaves, and Drew tells her, let him go. He has to process everything, and needs time. She asks what do they do? and he holds her while she cries.

Oscar gets in the elevator. The doors close, and he bangs on the wall. He yells, no, no, no! sinks to the floor, and cries. He says, I’m dying.

Tomorrow, Anna says Finn is more interested in his father than he’s letting on, Josslyn asks Cameron what he’s trying to say, and Oscar talks to Jason.

Kudos to Garren Stitt (Oscar) for some fine acting!

☁ I didn’t want to break the mood, but now I have to add that Oscar was wearing the coolest shirt. A sky blue short-sleeve button down with clouds on it. I just can’t help noticing the fashions. True story. One time I bought a sweater from the unfortunately named Nasty Gal. I say unfortunately, because my mailman must wonder wth I’m buying, since the name is all over the box. Anyway, I hadn’t even worn it yet, and saw Britt wearing it on GH. I thought, great. Now if I wear it, someone will think I bought it because I saw it on the show.

👻 An October Treat…

I am so thrilled that Channel Zero is back. This time subtitled The Dream Door. It looks good too. A hidden door in a basement? Can’t beat that for scary. Until you see what’s behind it. As usual, there’s a relationship subplot. This show is so underrated, I’m glad it’s finally getting some press. One sucky change though; it will be on every night for a week, instead of airing like a normal weekly series, as in the past. Thank God for On Demand. Here are three sites showing the trailer:

Fear the Walking Dead

Morgan looks down on the wandering zombies in the parking lot. June asks if Al copies. Jim suggests she’s dead, and June tells him, shut it, Jimbo. Jim wonders what Morgan is waiting for. He got them into this. Wen asks if he can do the honors when Jim becomes a zombie. Jim says, the way it’s looking, he won’t be the only one who needs to get put down. Morgan is sorry, but doesn’t know how they’re getting out. June says, if he doesn’t want to lead, fine, but he can help.

Victor hears Alicia yelling. He and John see her and Charlie across the water. John wonders how the hell they found them. Victor says perhaps he was right; they just needed to believe.

Alicia gets through to June on the radio. She tells June she’s with Charlie, and they just found John and Victor. They’re cut off by the flooding, but they’re going to get them. She asks where they are, but Morgan says he can’t tell her; it’s not safe. He got them stuck, and doesn’t know if there’s a way out. Alicia says she did what he told her to – she tried to be there for someone who needed her. Now they found John and Victor; she’ll find them. She tells him, hang in there. June says they have to find Al first, and Morgan tells her they should do that after they get John and Victor. She wonders how they’re getting down, and Morgan says, maybe the same way they came up.

John says the crocodile is hungry today. He says, they ain’t coming back. They won’t be able to find a way. Victor says his doubts are unfounded. John asks if that’s why Victor isn’t drowning his sorrows, and Victor says he’s saving it for when they get out. John asks what makes him think Alicia and Charlie can help. Victor says he was unable to see the promise of what lies ahead, and John thinks he might have used all that up. The way he looks at life, he put himself on an island before living on the brighter side. Someone helped him see it, and took him off the island. Victor says someone helped him get off the island. Alicia knows what Charlie did; who she took. Now, they’re working together. If that doesn’t make John think anything is possible, he doesn’t know what else will.

Alicia tells Charlie that they need something that will float; like a boat or canoe. They look around.

Martha bleeds onto a map. She puts a paper towel on her bullet wound, as I would do.

Jim looks down, and I say, oh, jump already. He hears me, and stands on the ledge. Morgan tells him to wait. Why, is a mystery. Jim asks if Morgan thinks he’s jumping. Morgan asks what he is doing, and Jim asks if he’s ever seen a meat puppet (a zombie, not a member of the band) walk with broken bones. He’s not dong that until some a-hole pokes something pointy through his skull. He’s pissing on them; it’s the only fun he has. And he does. Jim asks if Morgan is there to make himself feel better about what he did to him. Morgan says they’re going to try and get to Alicia, and find a way out. Jim asks if Morgan is asking him to help. Morgan knows he doesn’t have the right. Jim says he can’t do anything about dying, but can decide how he goes. Wow. That’s one long pee. Sarah joins them, and Morgan tells her, Jim’s not coming.

Sarah says, really, Jimbo? He’s not going hand over his beer recipe? They may never see him again. At least not like this. He tells her, go to hell. She says he’s a Class A a-hole, who fills every room with a philosophical fart, but his beer is poetry in a bottle. That’s him too, and he can live on. Jim considers this, and says she’s right. It’s an exceptional brew that packs a nutritional punch. It’s refreshing, with enough alcohol content to provide a buzz. It can give comfort to a dying man. And she can bring him comfort by turning around and leaving him alone. If she trips and breaks her neck, he’ll call it a bonus. She says it’s been nice knowing him. I’d pretend to trip and freak him out.

As they’re looking at some cars, someone shoots at Alicia and Charlie. It’s Martha, who says they shouldn’t be there. Someone broke her chain, and she’s going to fix it She’s going to make them strong. Alicia says she’s hurt; they can help. Martha says she doesn’t need help. She’s not weak. Martha continues to shoot at them, and Alicia repeats they can help her. Martha tells her that she said she doesn’t need it, and keels over. Alicia goes over to her, still keeping a gun on her.

Morgan and the others sneak around the hospital. June wonders where the zombies are. Morgan taps the ground with his stick, telling them to stay close. They’ll circle back. They head down the hall, and Morgan signals for them to stay back. He looks around the corner. They see zombies under a pile of cement, and continue on. There are dead bodies everywhere, and Sarah says, Al has been busy.

They keep walking. Morgan taps some more, and calls out for Al. Luci looks at a clipboard, and says Al left a message. Sarah takes it, and reads. Al hopes they’re alive. The walkie died, but she doesn’t now if they did. She’s taking the freight elevator. If they find out she’s dead, get her tapes and make copies. And if they find that c-word, they need to be settling her sh*t. Sarah says, she didn’t use c-word; she used the full quesadilla. Wen says with the power out, the elevator won’t be running long.

John dresses his wound, saying it’s going to get infected in the muck. Victor says, maybe not. John asks if Victor hears that, and they see the Al’s van, driving right through the water. Victor takes a swig from his bottle, and John does the same. Alicia says they were looking for a boat, and found this instead. Charlie gives John his hat, and he asks if she’s talking now. Victor asks if they’re okay Alicia nods, and says, him? John asks who their fellow passenger might be. It’s Martha.

Morgan says the hallway doubles back; they should go. Outside, they’re still surrounded. Even if they get down, can’t get away – unless he creates a distraction. He got them into this, and has to get them out. He can do something to draw the zombies away from the front. June says he doesn’t have to, but Morgan says he does, and she has to let him. June asks if he’s getting out, and he says they have to go.

The others leave. Morgan drags a body out onto the roof. Jim asks if he got the others killed too. Morgan says they have work to do.

On the radio, John says it’s safe to talk. June asks if he’s okay, and he says he opened up his side a little, but he’s good now. He tells her that he had a Black Jack for her, but he ate it. She tells him that they’re at the hospital, and he says they’re headed that way. She suggests the meet on the outskirts of town. The city is filled with the dead. They can’t miss each other again.

They see a crowd of zombies lining the fence outside. Sarah tells Momo, they’re going to need a distraction. He copies. He wants them to go back inside. He just needs a minute.

Martha comes to with her hands tied. She asks what they did, and John says they’re pretty cordial considering what she did to them. Alicia says she wanted to leave Martha, and Martha says she should have. Charlie says she would have died, but Martha says she wouldn’t have been weak. Alicia says she remembers that Morgan said he’d help her. She should be thanking them. She laughs, and says, they’ll see.

Morgan asks Jim for a hand, and Jim applauds. Just kidding. Jim says Morgan has given him a good reason not to. He sits, and Morgan hangs the body over the edge of the roof. He swings it to get momentum, and then heaves it out and down. It hits the roof of a car, and the alarm goes off. The zombies gravitate to it. Morgan gets on the radio, and says, come on. He doesn’t know how long it will last.

June tells Morgan, get going. Jim too. They’ll wait. The group heads for an ambulance. Morgan says, the power is out, the elevator isn’t working, and the stairs are flooded with walkers. June says, anyone could have made that call, but Morgan says he has things to make up for. If he knows he got them out, and she’s on her way back to John, maybe he can make up for something. The group gets in the ambulance, and pulls out.

Jim tells Morgan that he’s off the hook, at least with them. He gets it. Whatever you have to make up for, it’s hard. Even if works out, he won’t know if what he’s done makes up for it. Does he think Jim being up there is the easy way out? Take it from a Class A a-hole, death is a certainty; getting out from sh*t you’ve done, not so much.

Jim asks Morgan to do him a favor before he… Would he… Morgan nods. June asks if Morgan copies, and asks what’s gong on. He says he’s getting Jim off the roof; he’s not leaving Jim behind. The car alarm is dead. They’ll have to keep going; he’ll find own way out.

John says he just stitched up a woman who tried to kill everyone he cares about. Anything is possible. Alicia says Morgan told her that if she was in the position to help, she should do it. So that’s what she’s doing.

Sarah tells Morgan that they’re all there. June says he’s wrong. No matter what he thinks, they need him. Jim tells Morgan he’s not going to get off as east as he thought. Morgan tells them not to do this, but Victor says, it’s too late. They already are.

A long truck with a hydraulic crane is outside the hospital. Morgan asks where they got it, and Sarah says, the engine is dead, but the generator for the hydraulics purrs like kitten. Martha says, this isn’t going to end well; leave now. Luci grabs an ax, and they hook the truck to the van with a chain. The ladder goes up, but Morgan says, it’s shy by a couple of stories. John asks if he can make it down to that level. Morgan gets a cable, wrapping one end around something to anchor it to the roof, and the other end around himself. He says, let’s go, and Jim sits. Morgan says he can’t leave him up there. Jim says Morgan can’t do anything for him, and tells him to go. Morgan is real sorry, and Jim says he should be, but don’t give himself a reason to be sorry for them too.

Morgan climbs down the side of the building. A zombie pops out of a terrace door, and he and Morgan struggle. The zombie pushes Morgan against the ledge, but crack shot John nails him.

On the ground, June, Luci and Alicia dispatch zombies. Morgan asks how it looks, and June says they’re drawing a crowd. They don’t have much time. In a phenomenal leap, Morgan launches himself into the cherry picker. I say, holy sh*t! He nods to Jim. John tells them all to come back, and they get on top of the truck bed. Zombies clamor at Charlie and Wen in the cab, and start to surround the truck.

Victor says, it’s one hella predicament. Sarah asks Wen if they’re all right, and he says they’re still kicking. Morgan say they need to clear a path; draw them away. He tells them to go to the van; he’s getting them out of here. On the radio, Jim says he’s got this. He can choose how he goes out, and he thinks this beats pissing in the wind. He asks if Sarah is there, and asks if she can remember something. His recipe. She says, sh*t on a stick.

Jim stands on the ledge, and gives her the recipe. She writes it down, and he tells her to hold the radio close to her ear. It’s the most important part, and no one else can know. We don’t know either, since only Sarah hears it. He says, there’s love in there too, if she can believe it, but that’s it. Everyone smiles sadly. Sarah copies that. Jim closes his eyes, and jumps. He goes through the roof of a car, and the zombies move toward it. Morgan says they should get out of there.

Uh-oh. Martha is gone. Charlie says she’s hurt; they have to look for her. Sarah says there’s no time, and Alicia says she doesn’t want their help.

It’s quiet in the van. Luci asks what they’re going to call the beer when they brew it. She says it was called Augie’s Ale, but Sarah says they’re not calling it that chicken sh*t name that the marketing company told him to give it. The name has to mean something. They decide on Jimbo’s Beerbos. Morgan says, Jim would hate that, and Sarah says she knows.

June asks where they’re going, and Victor says, out of the city. Alicia says the hurricane took out pretty much everything. Morgan says he told Jim about Virginia, where he was heading. Jim isn’t making it, but he thinks they can. He says, let’s find out, then make our way there together.

Martha draws on Jim’s face. Bitch. Jim opens his eyes, and makes zombie noises. She puts a spiky-ended pole through him, and says he’s strong now. She says, you’re strong. Now let’s go make him strong too.

Next time, the finale; Martha is going to be stronger than ever, Al is alive, Morgan can’t loose any of them, and Morgan has writing on his face even though he’s not dead.

😳 My apologizes to Jerry O’Connell – who I’m so sure reads this – since I’ve been calling him Charlie O’Connell in referring to his new show, Bravo Play by Play (which premieres tomorrow!). Charlie is his brother. who looks a lot like him and also played his brother on Sliders, which is probably what caused the confusion in my head. But while we’re on the subject, Sliders would be a great show to bring back in syndication.

📺 Brief Observations from This Week’s TV Watching…

I don’t know if Dateline: Secrets Uncovered is the best place to advertise e-Harmony.

Gleaned from watching 90 Day Fiancé – no matter how much or how little of the English language someone knows, everyone has WTF? down, as well as the eff word in general.

And from watching Hoarding: Buried Alive, the two most common reactions upon seeing a hoard for the first time are, oh sh*t! and oh my God!

I finally saw The Shape of Water. The merdude was cute, in a Groot sort of way. It reminded me of how I was in love with Pepe Le Pew when I was five. I also wondered if the guy from Boardwalk Empire is just doomed to play skeevy psychopaths.

General Hospital

Curtis is having a drink with Drew at the MetroCourt, but has to leave for a meeting. Drew says he’s not in the mood to celebrate. Curtis asks how he found out; was he snooping? Drew says, not snooping. He was hungry, went to the kitchen, and saw the cake, It’s a great cake; three layers. Curtis says a three-layer cake would piss him off too. Drew says he appreciates it, but doesn’t like to be the center of attention. Curtis tells him, suck it up, and let those who love him, love on him. He’s worth it. Curtis says, happy birthday. Have fun and act surprised.

Monica and Kim are on the patio, where Monica is putting last minute touches on the party. She’s sorry Ned and Olivia can’t be there, but glad the rest of them will be. Kim thanks Monica for inviting her and Oscar. Sam arrives.

In the elevator, Maxie tells Peter that she’ll talk to Olivia. She’d talk to Carly, but she’s distracted. She’s surprised Olivia didn’t notice. The elevators are slow during peak hours. They should take that into consideration and add more elevators. The elevator jerks to a stop.

Valentin thanks Curtis for meeting him; he’s eager for an update. Curtis doesn’t want to waste Valentin’s time. If he gets something concrete, he’ll tell him. Valentin says they need to find Nina’s daughter as soon as possible. Curtis says not them, him. Then Valentin can deliver the information to Nina in hopes of saving his marriage.

Nina meets a man named Amit at the MetroCourt. He understands she wants an appraisal. She asks what he can tell her whatever he knows about this, and shows him the necklace. I just have to say it, they couldn’t have found something that looked more expensive? This was bought at Target for sure.

Margaux asks if Jordan found something to identify the body, and Jordan says, not quite, but it will put them on the right trail. Forensics got the remains of a bullet out of a bone. Margaux isn’t sure that will shed light on the body, but it might get them closer to identifying the killer.

Sonny asks Carly how his dad is. Carly says, like him, pretending everything is fine when it’s not. She doesn’t want to have the conversation any more than Sonny, but she loves him, and has to be straight with him. Things are adding up. When Mike took off with Avery; what happened with the alarm; and now Charlie’s. All of them could have ended in a tragedy. She thinks they’re running out of time. They can’t keep it up. She knows that Mike knows, and she thinks Sonny knows too.

Nina asks what he can tell her, and he says there’s no signature marking; at least nothing familiar. Nina asks if it was made to look like it was divided, or is it part of a whole piece. Amit says, it appears to be half of a larger piece; an original heart pendant divided. Nina says she has to find who has the other half.

Valentin tells Curtis, it’s a win-win. Curtis will find Nina’s daughter for her, and be paid handsomely. If it’s too much, he can find someone else do it. Curtis says he’ll do it for Nina, but Valentin had better not hold any of the information against her. He says there’s been a development. He’s been working a new angle, and his forensics accountant’s trace on the transfer worked. There’s no telling what will come of it. It’s twenty years old; it still may end up going nowhere. That’s why Curtis was waiting to tell him. Valentin says he’s anxious to let Nina know. In that soap way of how things work, Nina is suddenly there and says, let me know what?

Jordan says she’ll get an answer from ballistics soon. Margaux says she’s optimistic. Jordan can’t promise anything, but she’s got a good team. They can see if the bullet matches anything used in another crime. Margaux says tell her more about Charlie’s. Jordan says it’s connected loosely to Frank Smith Margaux says maybe they can connect him to the history of the body, and Jordan calls for his file to be pulled.

Sonny asks if Carly really wants to do this right now. She asks if he honestly believes this is working. He says he just has to figure it out; he needs more time. Carly asks, how much? Mike has been with them for months. They keep making arrangements, but things happen; big things. Now Julian is involved. Sonny says Julian isn’t going to say anything. He understands Sonny would do anything to keep his father safe. Carly asks if he really thinks he is.

Monica asks Sam where the kids are. Sam says Danny is at a breakfast, and wonders where Michael is. Monica says he wasn’t feeling it, and Sam tells her Scout is upstairs napping. Monica leaves to peek in. Kim says she feels bad for what Michael is going through. Sam says they just need to be there for him and listen. It’s unimaginable. Kim says it sounds like she’s speaking from experience, and Sam says she is. She tells her about Lila being stillborn, and says a foolish woman said she was lucky to never have known her. It would have been worse if she’d started a relationship. Kim says, that’s horrible. Sam says the words came back in her head when Danny was diagnosed with leukemia. She tells Kim that he’s fine now, with no traces of the disease; miracles happen. Sam says, she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to… Kims says, didn’t mean to what? and Sam says, nothing. Kim says she knows, doesn’t she? Sam says Drew told her. She’s so sorry. Kim does not look happy.

Sonny says everything he does is to protect his father, and Carly says he’s gone above and beyond, but she doesn’t think it’s working. Sonny says when he makes a mistake, he tries to fix it. Carly says he can’t fix what’s wrong with Mike. She loves him too, and wants what’s best for him. Sonny needs to decide while Mike still can. Sonny tells her Mike has already said he doesn’t want to be a burden, and Carly says he’s been clear about that. Sonny is wonderful with his dad, but he’s missing something important. He needs to take Mike at his word, and let him go. Mike hears the conversation.

Sam tells Kim that she could tell something was wrong. Drew didn’t want to, but finally told her Oscar’s prognosis. Kim says it’s none of her business. Sam says Drew was a wreck; he needed to talk to someone, and he trusts her. Kim can too. She’s sorry. They’re a family; their kids are siblings. If they need anything, Sam is there for her. Kim says they’re fine. Monica runs in, saying Drew is early.

Drew comes toward the patio. Monica, Sam, and Kim grab balloons and yell, surprise! He fake smiles.

On the phone, Maxie tells Olivia, tell the elevator guys to hurry. She has a meeting, and they’re stuck between eight and nine. She tells Peter the elevator company is on the way; there’s no need to freak out. She isn’t. He starts hyperventilating. He hits some buttons, and she says they shut the elevator down. They need to work on it for an hour – or less.

Nina tells Valentin, keeping secrets as usual. She doesn’t care. She needs to talk to Curtis about a pressing matter. Curtis leaves with Nina.

Nina describes a man in the bar to Curtis, and says he’s following her. (He bumped into her earlier.) She asks if Curtis thinks she’s paranoid, and he says no, judging from what appears to be a firearm in his jacket. He tells Nina, stay cool; he’s got it. He throws the guy against the bar, and the guy says he has a permit to conceal. Nina says she calls it being stalked. She’s calling the police. Curtis looks at his ID, and tells her, hold on. He’s a bodyguard. Nina asks, for who? and the guy says her. Nina says she didn’t hire a bodyguard, and Valentin says he did.

Maxie asks Peter if he’s okay; he seems a little not okay. Does he have a thing about being confined? Usually he’s so in control. He says this is new for him, and continues hyperventilating. Maxie wonders if him being tied to a bed for weeks has something to do with it, and he says, could be. He unbuttons hi shirt, saying he doesn’t feel like he can breathe. Maxie tells him the air is fine; it’s not hermetically sealed. She suggests they sit and try breathing; in through the nose, out through the mouth. She says the last time they were breathing together, she was on the side of the road in labor. This should be a piece of cake. He says it’s embarrassing, and she begins a breathing exercise.

Curtis tells the guy, his bad, and Valentin tells him to go. Curtis tells the patrons, everything is fine; pardon the interruption. His phone rings, and he steps away to take the call. Nina asks why Valentin hired someone to spy on her. He says he’s protecting her. It’s been brought to his attention that she has an enemy. Nina says, you can’t run a fashion magazine without occasionally stepping on Erica Kane’s toes. Valentin tells her Cassandra is on the loose.

Monica tells Drew to trust her. He might think a family birthday is a big ordeal, but he’s going to be happy looking back on the memories. Kim leaves to check on Oscar, and Sam says Scout should just be finishing her nap, so they should go. I wonder where everyone else is. Drew asks why Sam is leaving, and she says she was just planning to drop by; she didn’t think he’d want her to stay. He asks her to stick around.

Inside the Quartermaine’s, Kim leaves Oscar a message, saying she doesn’t like going to voicemail. He’s supposed to have his phone on at all times. His father showed up early, and they had to start without him. She tells him to text her, and hurry up. Drew walks in, and she asks if he was really surprised. He says he picked up on a clue or two, but didn’t want to put a damper on things. She asks if they can meet later and talk about Oscar. Nothing has changed, but they need to figure out how to communicate better. She had no idea he was going to tell Sam.

Oscar strolls on to the patio. He asks Monica if Drew was surprised. She says, yes, but it was fake. Sam asks about his hand, and he says he bumped into something. She says it looks like he was in a fight.

Margaux asks about Luke and Laura, and Jordan explains that Luke was Frank Smith’s guy. He ran a club, and did money laundering. He and Laura eventually turned Frank in for racketeering. Margaux would like to talk to them, but Jordan says they’re both out of town. She might have more success with Laura. She says she can speak with Laura’s husband; he testified for Carly. Margaux says that Sonny is on the list of Frank Smith’s known associates. Wouldn’t they have known this already? Oh, never mind.

Sonny says he’s not abandoning his father, but Carly says he’ll be honoring his father’s wishes, and taking a step to him from himself. He’s terrified he’ll hurt someone he loves. He can’t say it straight out. Mike doesn’t want to abandon Sonny. Sonny says he doesn’t know how to send Mike out of sight; it’s painful. There are a lot of options; they can come up with a plan. Carly says it’s not about him, it’s about Mike, and what he needs and wants. Sonny says what if Mike doesn’t know? Mike comes out, and says he’s wondering that right now. He has a full deck and a sound mind. Carly is right. He has to go. It’s what he wants, and it’s time.

Sonny asks how long he’s been there, and Mike says, long enough. Carly says they didn’t mean for him to hear, but he says, everything needed to be said. It’s not like it isn’t true. Sonny says, nothing is settled, but Mike says he and Carly are in agreement. He gave it his best shot; it’s time to rethink things. Sonny says he’s open to other arrangements. They could get live-in help, make him more secure. Staying there is better. He has family who love him. Mike isn’t so sure that’s a selling point. He says right now, every day, he’s losing himself, bit by bit. A little more; a little faster. Avery told Carly that her other name is Courtney, because that’s what he calls her sometimes. He wonders about the day he doesn’t recognize her. He can’t bear to think about it, and doesn’t want to cause more worry in Sonny’s own home. Carly says it’s his home too; it always will be. Sonny says he’ll always do everything keep Mike. Mike asks, at what point does a home stop being a home, and become a prison?

Kim tells Drew, the more people who know, the better the chance of Oscar finding out from the wrong person or the wrong way. Drew says that’s easily remedied by telling him the truth. She says he needs to pull it together; it’s all over his face. Sam interrupts, saying Oscar is there; they might want to come out. Don’t worry, but it looks like he’s been in a fight.

Nina says Valentin is making this up, and he tells her, ask Anna. She wanted to tell Nina, but he asked her to let him do it. Nina says, Cassandra is in custody, and he says, someone broke her out. She says, Cassandra is in a coma, and Valentin says, now she’s not. Thanks to Finn. The same people who held him and Anna in captivity, forced him to treat her. Nina wonders who would help Cassandra, and Valentin says he’d like to know himself. She says, the WSB must be on it, and he says, they lost her in the first place. Nina isn’t happy that the bodyguard reports to Valentin, so he can monitor her every move. Valentin suggests she move back to Windemere. She can have her own wing; he won’t bother her. I’m in. He needs to know she’s safe. Nina says she feels safer on the mainland. If she needs a bodyguard, she’ll hire one herself. Here he is now. Curtis returns.

Peter asks Maxie, how much longer, and she says, they’re working on it right now. She suggests they play game. Would You Rather. She asks if he’d rather lose all his money and valuables, or all his photos. He says, it’s a draw. He’s already lost all his money, and he lived; and he has no pictures. She asks why, and he says he’d need to have someone to be in the pictures. She asks if he’d rather lose short or long term memory, and he says short. Maxie says she’d be the opposite, and he says if he forgot the bad things he’s done, he couldn’t make up for them.

Curtis joins Nina and Valentin. He asks what Cassandra has against Valentin, and Valentin says they worked together long ago. She’s obsessed with him. She’s violent, and has it out for Nina. Curtis says he can hook her up with some protection, but Nina says she can take care of herself. Cassandra had better steer clear of her, or she’ll heed protection.

Peter says, there are some things in life you can’t atone for, and Maxie says, people throw that word around easily. They say it like it’s difficult to accomplish. She’s not aiming that at him, but her own experience. She’s made mistakes and hurt people. He says, way back in her horrible days? and she says it wasn’t that long ago. He says she’s come a long way. A lot of people hold her in high regard. Maybe there’s hope for him yet. She asks if he’d rather wear his shirts too big or too small, and he says, too big. She says, and hide his muscles? If you’ve got them, flaunt them. Oh brother. The elevator starts moving. Peter thanks her, and when it stops, the doors open and they fall out. Nina is like, wha-a-at?

Oscar tells Kim and Drew that they need to chill. They’re making way too much of this. Kim says he was in a fight, and Oscar says, barely. Monica says it’s not bad, and Oscar points out she does open heart surgery. Someone said something he didn’t like, and it was over in seconds. If Drew hadn’t taught him how to throw a punch, he would have gotten his ass kicked. Drew says he taught him how to defend himself, not throw a punch at whoever pisses him off. Oscar says, it’s not like anyone died. Kim says he just got out of the hospital. Monica is surprised.

Jordan says Sonny worked for Frank Smith; he ran Franks strip club, but there’s no connection. Sonny wasn’t in Port Charles at the time the body was buried. Margaux says, then their best lead is to learn who knew the pub owner and locate them. She knows where to start.

Sonny tells Mike it’s not a prison. Mike says Sonny has to listen, now, while he’s having a good moment. It’s no fun see people watching him from the edge of their seats or hovering, being totally confused about who he is. This is his reality, and he can’t stand them seeing him like this. Sonny says it’s just his pride talking, and Mike says, so what if it is? Isn’t he allowed to have some pride and dignity? Sonny asks if he thinks he’d be better off with strangers. Mike asks what happens the day he wakes up and they’re strangers? Will he understand then? Sonny says he doesn’t know how to do this. Mike says he left Sonny before, to his everlasting regret. He’d do anything if he didn’t have to leave him again, but it will happen one way or another. This way, they leave with good feelings instead of Mike just disappearing before his eyes. They’re both crying, and making me cry. Not only is Mike killing me, I’ll be very sad to see Max Gail go.

Nina doesn’t want to know. Maxie says she has the wrong idea, and follows her down the hall.

Curtis asks Valentin how much of the Cassandra situation he left out, and Valentin says he’ll worry about Cassandra. He wants Curtis to focus on Nina’s daughter. Curtis says the phone call was from his forensic accountant. The trace went through. Officially, it’s a single mother with a daughter the same age as Nina’s would be today. Well that sure narrows it down.

Monica says, you don’t go to the hospital for a headache, but Oscar says he didn’t eat, passes out, and Jason overreacted. Kim says, he acted with an abundance of caution, and she’s glad he did. Oscar suggests they cut the cake, and Monica asks him to do it. He says he’s bad at it, and doesn’t like being the center of attention (like his dad). Monica says she’ll keep that in mind when it’s his birthday – and throw an even bigger party. Do five people, including the guest, even qualify as a party? I ask again, where is everyone?

Sonny tells Mike there are places that have all-day activities, and you come home at night. He can ease into it, and they can ease into it. Mike says it sounds like a plan, but he’d still like to check out the residential facilities while he still can. He wants to have a say before he can’t. He and Sonny shake on it.

The house phone rings, and someone is at the door. Sonny tells Max to have them go away, but Carly says it’s too late. Margaux and Jordan walk in. They have questions related to the body found under Charlie’s. Sonny tells them that he’s said everything he has to say. Margaux says they’re not there to speak to him. They’re here to talk to his father.

On Monday, Oscar tells Josslyn about the fight, Robin says a hideous injustice has been done, and Cameron wants to know why Elizabeth is so interested in Oscar.

👹 The Sy – we can’t spell – Fy channel has been showing mini marathons of Z Nation on Friday mornings. Today they had one of my favorite episodes, Day One, where we see the backstories of the major characters; where they were when the apocalypse broke out. My main question was, how did Doc know what was going on so quickly? He just grabbed a bag of drugs and ran. It also unearthed (pun intended) a great quote from Addy’s story:

Zombie night? ** No. That’s next Thursday. – one hockey player to another when zombies appear at a game.

I’m hoping this is paving the way for the new season. And when will that be? Who knows? This was the latest I could find…

General Hospital

Anna’s doorbell rings. It’s Robert. He says Cassandra has been gone three days (!), and they still don’t know who’s behind her kidnapping or where they took her. She wouldn’t be giving them so much trouble if the good doctor hadn’t revived her. Finn comes stairs looking for his other sock, and tells Robert, good morning.

Sonny tells Carly that Kristina has no more headache or ringing in her ears. Carly says that’s good news, but Sonny can’t get it out of his head. He can’t believe Mike blew up Charlie’s to cover up what he did. Carly is surprised Julian chose to keep quiet, but Sonny thinks sooner or later he’ll want to collect.

Ava asks Julian, what the hell happened? He tells her a gas leak led to an explosion. Just another day at the office. She asks what the yellow tape is all about, when Chase comes upstairs. He says forensics is done, and the evidence has been gathered from the crime scene. Ava says she thought it was a gas leak.

Elizabeth tells Cameron that he’s going to be late. He tells her to chill; the first class is gym. She asks if he still doesn’t get a grade for that, and he asks if he’s grounded for life or gets time off for good behavior. Franco says if he shows some good behavior. Cameron asks if Franco just said that, and Elizabeth makes him apologize. She asks why he doesn’t invite Oscar over; they can do homework together. Cameron asks why she suddenly wants him to be besties with Oscar?

On the way to school, Oscar asks Drew what’s up with raiding the fridge at midnight. Drew says Monica is between cooks, so everyone is enjoying the kitchen in the meantime. He hopes Oscar stays over more often. Oscar never thought he’d say this, but he needs space from his mom. Whenever he leaves the house, she acts like she’ll never see him again. It was just one blackout, and he keeps telling her not worry. Drew says that’s what parents do. He’s worried too. Right now, he’s worried that Oscar thinks it’s not cool that Drew is walking to school with him, but he’s too nice to say it. Oscar says he’s glad they’re doing it. They might not be able to for much longer, since there’s no future to look forward to.

Finn tells Robert they were up all night, exhausting every possibility. Robert says Cassandra wouldn’t have vanished if Finn hadn’t woken her up. Anna says it was their best chance to find out who the people were, and if Finn hadn’t treated her, they would have shot him. Robert says he knew the risks, but Anna says Robert didn’t tell him. The doorbell rings. It’s Robin. She asks if it’s a bad time.

Robin tells them that the kids are growing up too fast. Anna asks what brings her to town. She says she was coming back from a medical conference in Vienna, and thought she’d check in after Anna and Finn’s latest adventure. She asks how Finn is. He says he’s still getting used to the kidnapping thing, but he’s getting the hang of it. She tells him to stick around. He thinks he will.

Drew asks Oscar why there’s no future, and Oscar says an asteroid is heading for earth. Some scientists are predicting it will crash early next year. Drew says, is that all? Oscar says the chances are one in 75,000. The odds could be better, but it’s close enough to get a good view; it would make a good news story. He’s thinking a father and son field trip to Tanzania and Mount Kilimanjaro to see it. Drew says, cool. Oscar has to get to PE; they’re doing cross country. Drew says it will be great training for Kilimanjaro. Oscar asks if they’re doing it, and Drew says, yes. Oscar says, awesome, and hugs Drew.

Elizabeth tells Cameron that he and Oscar don’t need be besties, but when Oscar was in the hospital, Cameron seemed concerned. He says he was, for Josslyn. Elizabeth suggest he invite them both, but he says so he can be a third wheel? No thanks. He’d rather do his time in solitary. He leaves, and she asks Franco if she’s going overboard. He says, maybe a little. She says things change fast. One minute, everything is fine, and the next, the person you love with all your heart is gone. Franco says, he just went to gym class. She’ll have to make due with him. They kiss, and the doorbell rings. Franco asks what kind of monster shows up at this hour? It’s Kim. She sees Franco, and Elizabeth says, it’s cool. They tell each other everything.

Chase asks Julian how long he’s owned the pub. Julian says, a year, and Chase asks why he bought it. Ava asks what that has to with anything. Julian says he’d just gotten out of prison, and sold his previous business to his daughter and son-in-law. He wanted a fresh start. Chase asks, why Charlie’s? it’s not exactly new. Julian says he walked in, and it spoke to him. Chase asks if the place was in good shape or did he have to renovate? Ava says it seems like an unusually real estate related third degree. Why? Chase says they found human remains in the basement.

Sonny tells Carly that Julian will probably gouge him with a huge repair bill. Carly says his silence is worth it. Sonny can’t believe his dad decoyed him and slipped away. He insisted Sonny stay with Jason, said he was going with the nurse, then slipped away from the hospital. Mike comes in, telling them that they don’t have to stop talking when he shows up. Carly says they stopped talking because he looks terrible. Sonny asks how he’s feeling, and he says apparently the way he looks. He knows what they’re thinking. Carly says, that they’re worried about him and love him? He says that he tried to make things better, but only made them worse.

Finn says he’s going to spend some time with Roxie, and leaves. Robert asks if Robin wants to go to the airport together, but she’s not headed back right away. She has unfinished business. He asks if he should he be there for it, but Robin says they’ll be okay. He tells her go easy on mom. When he’s gone, Anna asks if Robin wants to talk about the unfinished business now.

Elizabeth tells Franco that they have to talk about patient. Franco says he has art therapy patients to tend to, so he’s going to the hospital. He asks Kim if, as a doctor, she can suggests a how to parent manual. She wishes, and says if he finds a good one, can she borrow it? He tells her that she could write it. When he leaves, Kim asks if Elizabeth told him. Elizabeth says, no. They agreed not to keep secrets, but if he asks a direct question, she’ll have to tell him the truth. H hopefully don’t ask more people know better chance he’ll find out

Cameron sees Oscar. They’re both ditching gym, and Cameron tells Oscar that the coach is only interested in varsity, He won’t notice they’re gone, Oscar asks if Cameron wants to explain what went down between him and Josslyn while he was in the hospital. Cameron says it’s totally on him. He shouldn’t have kissed her. Oscar says, what?!

Julian asks if a body was found, and Chase says a skeleton. He asks if Julian knew about it, and Julian says, of course not. Chase says he had to ask, given Julian’s criminal record. Julian says he just gave plans to city for renovation. Why would he bring in jackhammers if he knew a body was in the basement? Chase asks him to call if he remembers anything. Julian wonders how long the basement will be off-limits, and Chase says he’ll let Julian know.

Carly says Mike gave them a scare yesterday, but everyone is okay. Mike says, Kristina almost got blown up. Sonny says, she’s doing fine. Mike says, he’s getting worse, isn’t he? The things he wants remember, he forgets, and the things he wants to forget… Sonny tells Mike that he knows it’s hard; it’s hard for him too, but Mike can’t wander off on his own. Mike says he didn’t wander off; he snuck off. The reason he went with the nurse is that he knew he could give him the slip. Sonny is going to make sure it never happens again. Mike says he just wanted to help Sonny and help fix what happened in the field. Where was It? Sonny says it doesn’t matter. Mike says maybe it’s better he doesn’t remember where it was, and only remembers what he took and what he did with it. He was trying to help and he screwed up again. Sonny says it will be fine. He’s paying for the damages, and Charlie’s will be good as new. Mike says if he’d blown himself to smithereens, they’d all be better off. Sonny tells him, don’t say that, and Mike says, even if they both know it’s true.

Anna tells Robin that she knows she dropped a bomb on everything Robin believed. She can’t imagine how difficult it was. Robin says, it was a shock, especially finding out her brother was Faison’s son. Anna says, no one is happy about that, least of all Peter. But despite all that, Robin is there. She just wants to know if Robin forgives her.

Kim tells Elizabeth that she told Drew. She’ll never forget the look in his eyes, when he found out he was going to lose the son he only just met.

At the hospital, Drew leaves a message for Kim, saying he was hoping to run into her. Franco approaches, and tells Drew that Kim is at the house talking to Elizabeth. Drew asks if he knows what about. Franco says they’re consulting about patient, but if true that’s true, why wouldn’t they do it there? He’s kept secrets, so if Elizabeth wants to not tell him something, it’s okay. Drew thinks it’s eating him up, but Franco says that’s what he looks like when he’s coping. He asks if he can he pick Drew’s brain about something – Oscar.

Oscar says, Cameron kissed Josslyn? Cameron thought that’s what he wanted to talk about. Oscar asks what happened, and Cameron says Josslyn wanted to surprise him, and he was helping her decorate the bench. When Oscar didn’t show up – Oscar interrupts, saying he was in the hospital. Cameron says Josslyn didn’t know that and blamed herself for pushing him away. She thought she’d pushed too far. Oscar says Cameron didn’t do anything stop it, and Cameron asks why he should. He knows her better than Oscar. Oscar says he knows her better than anyone. Cameron says he and Josslyn will still be friends long after she forgets who Oscar is. Oscar shoves Cameron.

Mike says Kristina got hurt because of him, but Sonny says she made her own choice. She went back in to pick up the wrench Mike left. Mike says, like he said, it’s his fault. Sonny tells him that Kristina took a chance on her own life because she loves him. Carly says, like they all do. Mike asks what about his life is worth saving? He’d gladly give up his own life for Kristina, or any of them. Carly says he proved he would do anything for his family; now it’s their turn. Let them help him. Mike says he’d like to see the brochures for the places that take care of people like him. That stomping sound is Mike jumping on my heart.

Robin tells Anna she gave it a lot of thought, and realized there’s nothing to forgive. Anna made the right choice for herself at the time, and she has no right to judge. Anna says she’s had a lot of time to think too, and keeps coming back to the same question. Should she have told Robin sooner? Robin says she’s lost sleep too. Patrick knows when she’s not there. She spent so much time way because of Faison, maybe it’s better she didn’t know; it might have been too much to handle when she was younger. She can see there was no real right time to tall her – until the truth came out. It was her secret to keep. Anna wishes felt as sure as Robin seems to be.

Finn sees Chase at the hospital. Chase tells him remains were found in a local business, and he’s waiting for test results. Finn says, good work. Chase says it freaked him out. He might need to borrow Roxie. Finn says he has to take it up with her. He’s a poor substitute, but Chase can tell him more over coffee. Chase is surprised, and Finn says when he was being held captive, Chase came to the rescue. Chase says he was just doing his job. He knows he’s been pushing Finn, but has come to accept that what he wants might be more than Finn is willing to give. Finn doesn’t owe him. Finn asks if he can’t just have a cup of coffee with his damn brother. Chase says, damn half-brother.

Kim tells Elizabeth that Drew is Oscar’s hero. Elizabeth says, the feeling is mutual. He won’t give up without a fight. Kim says she’s already scheduled a meeting with Terry to discuss options. Elizabeth asks about the prognosis, and Kim says if she can only give Oscar a little more time; just a few months. She starts to cry, and Elizabeth hugs her.

Cameron can’t believe Oscar pushed him. Oscar says his dad is a Navy SEAL, and showed him some things. He asks if Cameron is scared. Cameron says, hell no, and Oscar punches him in the eye. Cameron leaps on him.

Franco tells Drew that he’s good with Jake; Cameron, not so much. Everything he does is wrong. He knows Cameron is a teenager, and will grow out of it, but Drew is obviously there for Oscar. Drew tells him to shut up for a minute.

Robin wonders what it was like when Anna first realized Peter was her son. Anna says he was so full of pain and anger, blaming her for abandoning him. Robin says, but she found him after all this time; that was something. Anna says he’s still in town, and Robin says he can’t hate her that much. Anna says he’s not there for her. He’s there for Maxie and her little boy. It’s an uphill battle. Robin isn’t so sure. Maxie has a forgiving spirit. She knows what it’s like to make mistakes, and makes allowances. Anna hopes she’s right. It would mean a lot to Peter. Robin thinks there’s hope for Peter and Maxie, and Peter and Anna.

Drew apologizes to Franco; he’s been stressed lately. Franco says for most of his life, when someone apologized, he felt great joy. Now he feels concern, and it’s new for him. Maybe they can explore that. No pressure, but if Drew wants to talk… He asks Drew to tell him about Cameron. Drew says Cameron needs him. He doesn’t realize it, but he does. He was with Elizabeth when the kids were younger, an it was easier for him. He doesn’t think he’d know what do with Oscar if he hadn’t taken Parenting 101 from Elizabeth. She’s the best, and deserves the best. He tells Franco not to forget that, and leaves. Franco looks puzzled.

Cameron asks how Oscar’s hand is. Oscar says it hurts; how’s Cameron’s eye? He wonders if Cameron should go to the nurse. Cameron says she’ll just ask questions. If anyone asks, he tried to hurdle the bench, and face planted. Oscar is surprised Cameron is covering for him, but Cameron says it’s for himself. He doesn’t want anyone to know he was punched by Oscar Nero.

Chase says it’s a damn fine half-cup of coffee. Finn says the less you drink, the better it is. They can work up to a full cup Robert comes in, and says he’d like to talk to the doctor. It’s federal agent business. Finn would like his brother to stick around. It was Chase’s work that figured out where he and Anna were. Chase tells Robert that he’s the official liaison between the PCPD and the WSB. Robert asks Finn what he was going to say before Robin showed up. Finn says the medications Cassandra was given is hard to find, and some are illegal. He’ll give Robert a list. Chase says, trace the drugs, trace Cassandra. Nicely done.

Ava tells Julian, bodies don’t appear in the earth like truffles. Someone plants them. He’s up to something, and this is just another piece of the puzzle he intends to profit from. Julian says his days of taking advantage of other’s misfortune are over. She’s impressed he’s keeping a straight face. He says whoever the bones belong to, he hopes they get a proper burial and mystery gets buried with them.

Mike says some of the places look not bad, and Sonny says he doesn’t have to go there. Brick made it easier for him to stay there. Mike says he’ll think about it. Sonny tells him, no rush, and Carly says they just want him to be happy. Mike says he’ll be happy if he does right by his family.

Kim tells Elizabeth, if all goes well, she’ll be delivering triplets. Elizabeth tells Kim to call her if she needs her, and Kim thanks her for being a good friend. Drew sees Elizabeth, and asks what’s wrong.

Oscar tells Cameron they should head back. Cameron says if they’re stragglers at the end, the coach won’t recruit them. What said about Josslyn, he was just getting in Oscar’s face. Oscar is it for her; the only it. Oscar says he knows.

Elizabeth tells Drew that she’s so sorry about Oscar. Kim told her. He figured that, and he’s glad Kim has her to turn to. They’re both torn up. He’s glad that person is her, and she says she’s here for him too. She hugs him, and Franco sees.

Anna tells Robin that she can’t stay in a hotel. Robin says, good, because she didn’t make a reservation. They hug, and Anna asks how long she’s staying. Robin says, long enough to figure out what to do about her brother.

Robert looks forward to seeing Finn’s list. It’s just possible the two of them aren’t as useless as they present themselves. Finn says, hilarious; he’s welcome. Chase says Robert is like an angry Australian. Finn says he and Chase share more than DNA. Chase says that guy really does not like them.

On the phone, Sonny says let him through. Carly says, trouble? Nothing he can’t handle. Carly suggests she and Mike check out the brochures over a cup of tea. He says one place has a swimming pool and a pool table. All pool all the time. Carly says she’ll visit all the time.

Sonny opens the door, and it’s Julian. Sonny says it’s too soon to be billing him for damages. Why is he there? Julian says he knows why Sonny pushed so hard to buy Charlie’s. He didn’t want the pub. He wanted what was buried beneath it.

Tomorrow, Maxie asks where she fits in, Julian tells Sonny the body was found, and Peter asks Lulu if she wants the Ryan Chamberlain story.

The Real Housewives of Dallas

Kameron has photos taken. Cord asks if she was badgering them with questions. She freaks because he used the word badger.

Brandy is back from Beaver Creek and back to reality. When Bryan is out of town, juggling three kids is a lot. She was on an emotional high when they got Bruin, and now she’s exhausted. The girls are a little jealous of the baby, and there’s only so much of her to go around. The girls suggest renaming the baby Booka. She feels like if she got help, it would be like she failed. Doing it all is taking its toll. The girls eat chips and candy for dinner.

LeeAnne and Rich go out to dinner. He wants more details about the trip. She says, when they left, D’Andra and Brandi were at opposite ends of the spectrum, and now they’re best friends. Rich asks, based on what? and LeeAnne says, tequila. Rich thinks that works.

LeeAnne says Rick told her he wanted to set a date to set a date for the wedding. He says, let the ambush begin. She says it made her feel like he didn’t want to set the date, and therefore, doesn’t want to get married. He says it was a joke, but she wants an adult conversation. She doesn’t know why she’s afraid to make him set a date, and he adultly says she can’t make him do anything. She says they don’t talk about it. Does he think they’re not discussing it because they don’t want to do it? They went from a magical moment to a desert. She wants to know if he wants to be married. He says he didn’t ask just to ask. She’s afraid to push, because he might say he doesn’t want it. Rich says it’s a communication issue, and admits to avoiding her because he doesn’t want to piss her off. He says they have a lot going on, but LeeAnne thinks that’s an excuse. In her interview, LeeAnne says her abandonment and avoidance issues stem from her mother, who told her if her mother doesn’t want her, no one else will. She says, if someone doesn’t want you at three-years-old, in your cutest phase, who would want a fifty-year-old bitch? Rich says he loves her and wants to take care of her. She says she’s scared. Her grandparents were together through thick and thin; they never left each other’s side. She wants that commitment from him. In her interview, LeeAnne says it makes her uncomfortable that Rich was divorced more than once. She wants someone who understands commitment. Rich asks if has to ask again, and she thinks he needs to re-encourage her. He asks if she’ll marry him, and she asks if she can move forward with plans. For some bizarre reason, Rich says the date will be set organically by them starting plans. Um… what about invitations? He kisses her, and says he has a little romance in him.

Kameron tells her kids that she has get her stuff together for a global pet expo, explaining it’s a trade show for animal products. She asks if they can help put things together. In her interview, she says most of the exhibitors will be billion-dollar companies. This is her best shot at getting a distributor. She’ll be mortified if she can’t pull it off. The kids think the display rack is a jungle gym. Kameron says she wants to get the kids involved, instead of them always being with the nanny. The kids tell her the product is dumb. In her interview, Kameron says marrying into Cord’s family has it’s perks, like vacation spots and a private plane. The women in the family are involved in the community, and she took on that role, but wants a career now. She thinks it will be a struggle for the family to adapt to it. She tells the kids they’re the most important thing, and don’t ever think Sparkle Dog is.

LeeAnne visits D’Andra. She tells D’Andra she’s exhausted from the trip. In her interview, LeeAnne says these bitches don’t sleep. They stay up drinking all night, get four hours sleep, then start drinking again. She doesn’t know who can live like that, but she can’t. D’Andra says starting over is a big pill to swallow. Her new company will be the first time she has the opportunity to start something from the ground up, and make it successful on her own. LeeAnne tells her about the conversation with Rich. She says she needed reassurance, and it felt like they got engaged again last night. He asked her again. D’Andra asks what the date is. In her interview, D’Andra has heard of renewing vows, but this sounds like he’s buying time. How does LeeAnne know he’s not just saying what she wants to hear? LeeAnne says she knows him, and D’Andra says that’s not a real answer. They argue over what D’Andra’s age is, and talk about going to the rodeo.

LeeAnne doesn’t get it. D’Andra didn’t want to be around Brandi. LeeAnne slept, and when she woke up, they were sh*tfaced shopping. She says she knows what Brandi is capable of; she’s been Brandi’s victim, and had her heart shredded. D’Andra tells LeeAnne that her grandma always said the proof is in the pudding. LeeAnne doesn’t want D’Andra to think she has ulterior motives. She’s concerned Brandi will use the foundation she has with D’Andra to get to her, and she doesn’t want to get hurt. In her interview, D’Andra says if Brandi and LeeAnne made up, why does she care. D’Andra says she’s a big girl. She and Brandi had a great time and made a breakthrough. In her interview, LeeAnne says she can sweep things under the rug and still be cautious. D’Andra saw Brandi stab her in the back. We flash back to the brunch where Brandi went off on LeeAnne. LeeAnne says she’s forgiven Brandi, but she’s not forgetting. D’Andra hears her, and says she’ll proceed with caution.

it’s D’Andra’s birthday. She greets her guests with tequila shots. In her interview, she explains that the rodeo is part of Texas culture. If a Texas girl’s family has a ranch or farm, you know the rodeo. Kameron tells us her dad was a professional polo player, but she’s never been in an environment where people are screaming on bucking bulls. Brandi is thrilled that mom Jana steps in so she can have a life.

Only Cary and Stephanie are absent. In her interview, Brandi thinks Stephanie is missing out, but it’s not boushy enough for Cary. Kameron pronounces bull like bowl, and no one knows what she’s talking about. LeeAnne wants to see Brandi country western dancing. Brandi says she did that last week, and we flash back to her and D’Andra dancing around in the store. Kameron says Brandi is a bad influence on D’Andra. D’Andra says she has a silly side. Brandi loves when D’Andra is herself and doesn’t care.

The first thing is a bull parade. Kameron thinks they’re adorable, and they’re not even on leashes. At the bar, Brandi brings out a beer bong, and drinks one down. Kameron doesn’t like beer, but in college did a champagne bong. LeeAnne thinks public beer bonging is a no, but does it anyway. Brandi doesn’t know if it’s cute or depressing, but thinks it’s sad to feel left out at fifty… one. D’Andra says LeeAnne might as well hang up her hat if she thinks she can keep up. LeeAnne says like waterboarding, and makes a huge burp. She hates beer.

Next is the mechanical bull. Brandi goes first to show them how it’s done. It’s not her first rodeo. LeeAnne vaults on via the back end. In her interview, she says, if you can’t break a man’s ribcage with your thighs, don’t have sex or ride a bull. Alrighty then. Kameron is afraid to get hurt. In her interview, she says she doesn’t want to be a party pooper, so she’s getting on – Rodeo Barbie. She’s wearing a dress (!), and LeeAnne helps her up. D’Andra says she looks great, which of course is the most important thing. The bull is so slow, I could ride it, but Kameron is frightened. She manages to get through it, and in her interview, says being on a wild moving animal makes her feel at one with the rodeo. I guess no one has the heart to tell her it’s not real.

The ladies go to Bill Bob’s Panhandle Arena where the real bull riders are. it’s amazing to watch, but I think it’s mean to the animals. D’Andra thinks step up from watching Kameron.

Cary stops by her house renovation. Builder Susan tells her they’re getting the mechanical inspections done, then doing insulation. In her interview, Cary says there was no Michelin star restaurant at the rodeo, so it’s not her. It wasn’t boushy enough. So, Brandi was right. Susan maps out Cary’s ginormous closet. In her interview, Cary says it’s modeled after the Fendi store. It’s costing a gazillion dollars, but it will be fantastic. Mark says he’ll probably end up with the hall closet. They discuss the Molteni stove Mark is getting. Oooh, it is nice. In her interview, Cary says it’s going to be her sister wife, and she’ll have to vie for Mark’s attention. Her parents are back in three months, and they have to get out. She says the positive thing about staying there is that she realized she wants to fix the strained relationship with her father. It will never be perfect, but it’s something she wants.

Brandi says, Kameron is redefining slow ride. In her interview, Kameron says the members of her family hold each other to a high standard. LeeAnne explains to Brandi, when have a family name, you’re watched closer, and can’t let your hair down. In her interview, Brandi says LeeAnne has the perception that she’s high in Dallas society, but has a police report. D’Andra asks Kameron how she feels about the pressure, and Kameron says you’re more under a microscope, but she surrounds herself with people who are like her. In her interview, Kameron says she’s conservative anyway, and fits right in. D’Andra feels like she’s not being true to herself. In her interview, D’Andra is sick of being judged on what’s acceptable by Dallas society. She wants to do what makes her happy in the next phase of her life. Brandi thinks if they can’t accept her for who she is, screw that. At the end of the day, D’Andra needs to be happy. D’Andra says it’s her year to figure things out. Her dad told her be the fun person she is. When he passed away, she felt the freedom to be that. In her interview, D’Andra aspires to be freewheeling like Brandi. Brandi says she understands and they should celebrate that. Brandi loves D’Andra when she’s herself. It’s sad that she feels the need to apologize for it. In her interview, LeeAnne says she’s not spreading her ass cheeks and dropping out a quarter into a K-cup.

Brandi gives D’Andra the necklace she wanted in Beaver Creek. Wow. That was very thoughtful. And expensive. LeeAnne says Kameron is good at basketball, and suggests they go for a game. In her interview, Kameron thinks Brandi is investing in the friendship, and trying to buy D’Andra. Kameron and LeeAnne play basketball, but it’s not like a regular game. More like something you’d see in an arcade. LeeAnne says she told D’Andra that she could get hurt. Kameron doesn’t trust Brandi with D’Andra. Brandi can be classless. We flash back to Brandi’s dog poop hat, and also Sexual Chocolate. Kameron says if D’Andra continues to hang out with Brandi, what next?

D’Andra tells Brandi that she didn’t expect to like her so much. D’Andra says she understood that LeeAnne was protecting her, but she has to make her own decisions. She tears up, and Brandi says she appreciates what D’Andra is saying.  In her interview, Brandi is annoyed that LeeAnne is encouraging other people not be friends with her. It’s a slap in the face. D’Andra says she has to figure out her own path. She needs to do what feels right. She and Brandi hug.

We move on to the World’s Largest Honky Tonk. D’Andra thanks everyone for the great birthday, and they do shots. Leanne rides D’Andra like she rode the mechanical bull, then does some weird dance moves, many of which involve full contact with the floor. Brandi says LeeAnne talks about acting a certain way in society, but she’s giving a lap dance, and mopping the floor with her hair. LeeAnne says D’Andra is her bitch. Brandi thinks she’s jealous.

Back from Italy, Stephanie visits Brandi. In her interview, Stephanie says they haven’t seen each other in ten days. It’s like forever, and she wants the scoop. It should be entertaining. She tells Brandi and Jana about the trip, and we see pictures. She says Travis bought himself a Ferrari for his 50th birthday, but he’s not even forty-nine. Brandi tells her about LeeAnne’s lap dance. Stephanie asks if D’Andra was bruised. Brandi says she had good time, but there were some intense moments. D’Andra said she needed to start making decisions for herself, and LeeAnne is trying to influence D’Andra into not being friends with her. In her interview, Stephanie says she sees LeeAnne as wanting to change, but she’s her own worst enemy. She can’t judge LeeAnne by other people’s experiences. Brandi doesn’t think she can be friends with LeeAnne.

Next time, Brandi prepares for the social worker’s visit, LeeAnne and Rich start planning the wedding, and the ladies do some demolition.

MasterChef

Cesar, Bowen, Samantha, and Gerron (my man!) were left. The first challenge was for the cooks to conquer a colossal protein; what America was built on, still devours, and chef’s worship. If you guessed beef, as I did, you were right. They were told to make a MasterChef worthy masterpiece of a kabob in thirty minutes. The judges agreed it would come down to the tiny details. Bowen changed the dish, garnishing it with peppers underneath, which Joe wasn’t pleased with, especially since the peppers were raw. Samantha omitted the peppers entirely, going for a Mediterranean flair. Joe said it tasted okay, but her minimalist strategy didn’t work. Gerron used jerk seasoning and was told he did a good job. Ashley was praised for her generous seasoning. Casar used red wine vinegar, and although Gordon said it was perfectly cooked, it didn’t need that kick. Gerron was the first to be safe, and the other three (all Gordon’s people) had the challenge of making meatballs – or as Joe said, soft pillows of deliciously seasoned beef – in marinara sauce. Since Bowen cannot possibly listen, instead of putting the breadcrumbs in the meatball mixture, which Joe explained gives it lightness, he breaded them like cutlets. He insisted it was a Chinese thing, but Joe suggested he follow the rules at this point. Samantha put the frying pan in the oven for some reason, causing the middle of her meatballs to be raw. Since they contained pork as well as beef, Gordon bravely ate around it. He told her they had to sit in the sauce to be evenly cooked. The flavor of Ashley’s meatballs was divine, but Aaron wanted more sauce. Still, it was enough to keep her safe.

In the next round, the remaining contestants had to cook a MasterChef classic – filet mignon. Three of them – well done, medium and rare. To keep their MasterChef dream alive, the cooks had to nail all three temperatures. Cesar said it was trying to get three darts make a bullseye. Gerron was glad he wasn’t in their shoes. Bowen is a pilot? I guess I don’t always pay attention to the text. It’s enough to remember their names. Samantha won the save, and Bowen was out. Gordon told him that the MasterChef door might have closed, but he’d love to have Bowen in his brigade anywhere. Bowen said it was the best moment of his life, and he hasn’t lost his dream of opening a restaurant. He didn’t feel so well at this moment, but learned a lot, and felt it was a big step toward his future.

Next, the remaining four divided up, with Cesar pairing with Ashley, and Gerron with Samantha. They were going to be cooking for the mentors of their mentors. Aaron introduced the pioneer of California cuisine, Jonathan Waxman; Joe introduced his Emmy winning mother, Lidia Bastianich; and Gordon’s mentor was master of French cuisine, Daniel Boulud. The challenge was to make three identical plates of whatever dish they liked in sixty minutes. Cesar and Ashley decided on pork chops, and Gerron and Samantha made lamb with a rhubarb glaze. Lidia’s advice was to taste everything, which sounds obvious, but I can’t count the times on Kitchen Nightmares when Gordon asks, did you taste it? and they say, no. Cesar and Ashley’s pork chops were deemed complex, intriguing, and not overly done. They said they were going for a culmination of their talents and journey, while representing their culture in a beautiful and respectful way. Samantha had been so jazzed, she ran into the counter, and we learned to use white, not brown, sugar to give more depth of flavor. Lidia said both dishes were great, and there was a professional level on both sides.

It was Cesar and Ashley for the win, and for the next challenge, the cooks had to replicate a three-course dinner. Joe presented one of his favorite appetizers, spring risotto. He said it was so hard to nail, it’s rarely seen in restaurants. Aaron offered pan-seared salmon, with he said involved many techniques and flavors. Last was a signature dish of Gordon’s, sticky toffee pudding. I’m not so sure I would like it, but it was fun to hear Gordon say it repeatedly. The requirements were for it to be flavorful, but not too sweet, and if it was dry, game over. The cooks had ninety minutes

Samantha was a wreck, and most worried about the pudding. She forgot the gelatin and had to start over. Wine was the ingredient for something, and had I been her, I would have been drinking it. I also have to note, that although Gerron is a teacher, he used the non-word mines. Samantha’s pudding was as much of a mess as she was. The caramel sunk into it, and she burned the butter. Gerron wisely told us that, it’s not the mistakes you make, but how you bounce back from them. The mentors were proud, and in the end, Gerron had the best appetizer, and Samantha the best salmon. The dessert was the tie-breaker, and I breathed a sigh of relief that Gerron was safe. Twenty-year-old Samantha said she was going to enroll in culinary school, and Gordon offered to pay for her tuition. The MasterChef door might have closed, but she said she was opening a door to her future in the industry, and she was excited.

Next time, the 2-hour finale with a live audience. The face-off for a quarter of a million dollars, and the title of MasterChef.

💥 I happened to notice an ad in the digital guide reminding me that American Horror Story: Apocalypse began tonight. Miracles still happen, since it doesn’t look like it will interfere with anything else I watch. I didn’t even bother with the last season, since if I want to look at political rhetoric, I can go to Facebook. Or pretty much anywhere. I’ve enjoyed past seasons though. Lady Gaga can do no wrong, the dinner with the serial killer guests was superb, and I adored AHS: Freak Show. It’s fun to see what new roles the regulars assume, and this season, I was pleased to see both Billy Eichner and Joan Collins in the cast. So far, it’s exciting, and I’m in.

🗽 The Real Housewives of NYC showed an episode called Passport Edition tonight. I didn’t see it, but would assume it’s a rehash of their trips.

Fear the Walking Dead

June, Morgan, and Al look for Quinn. June asks if Quinn copies, but gets dead air. Morgan thinks they should go back, but June wants to keep looking. Al agrees. At the truck, Sarah radios that they got a goose egg. Morgan says they’re going to keep looking, Jim asks Sarah why they kidnapped him, and she says they just borrowed him. They need beer. Jim says she might be capable of making swill after a year, but she wants the best beer; and that is in his mind, experience, fingers, and soul.

We hear zombie noises, and Sarah goes to check it out. Jim wants a gun, but Wen says, what about a rock? Jim sees a zombie coming toward Wen from behind, and Wen checks it out in his rearview mirror. Jim calls for Sarah, but Wen lets the zombie come closer, and impales it one his James Bond wheelchair gadgets. As it thrashes around on some spikes, Wen asks if Jim wants his first kill; he’ll get a point. Too late. Sarah pikes it in the head, and says, whoever gets the kill wins the bill. Sarah tells Momo to get his ass back there.

Al examines a dead Purvis. Sarah wonders what kind of sicko sh*tto does that? June radios Quinn. Jim wants to leave now, and Sarah thinks he has a has a point. June asks if Quinn copies, and gets zombie noises in reply.

Crazy Lady tells her that’s Quinn, and June asks, who is this? Crazy Lady says she let him become what he was meant to be, and Quinn makes more noises into the radio. She says, he’s not weak anymore. Morgan knows the voice, and says she was by one of the boxes. She asks if that’s Morgan, and he wonders how she knows his name. She says she knows a lot about him. Al says bitch has her van, and isn’t giving it back. Morgan asks what she wants, and Crazy Lady says she shouldn’t be leaving things by the side of the road. She tells Morgan that he shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing. Leaving the boxes makes people weak, and he’s not weak. At least he didn’t used to be. He asks what she wants again. What she wants is for him to stop trying to help people. If he becomes strong again, she won’t have to make him that way. It’s better for both of them. She knows who he really is, and what he’s capable of. She says, it’s still there.

Victor wakes up, and rifles through a pantry. He reads Moby Dick for a moment, and goes outside. He surveys the property with binoculars. He’s in a ranger station surrounded by what looks like a lagoon. We see the tops of street signs sticking out of the water, so it must have been flooded during the hurricane.

John chops wood to make a raft. He takes a wrapped piece of candy from his pocket and kisses it. A zombie comes out of the water. John says he hates the wet ones, and whacks it with an ax. Victor says his morning reading was interrupted. John tells him that he saw a lone crane. He never saw a crane fly solo; the world has turned upside down. He says he could use another pair of hands, but Victor says he’s lost his taste for boating. He tells John these aren’t friendly waters, but John says he’s not going for swim. He’s going to get as far as he can. He says there’s room for two, but Victor passes. He’s got apple rations; it’s practically paradise, and he’s not going on another fool’s errand. He’s learned, if you have God’s wine cellar, keep it. He’s not getting in or on whatever that is. He thinks it’s time to stop being foolish. John says when he finds June and Charlie, he’ll come back on something less handmade. Victor could run out of food soon. Victor hopes when the raft falls apart, it’s toward shore.

Luci finds the library where Charlie got the book she left. She goes inside, and calls for Charlie. She looks around outside and sees a zombie scrabbling at a car. She pikes it in the head. It’s not Charlie inside, but an older dude whose bottom half is wedged under the dashboard and bleeding out. She tells him that she can help, and asks how long he’s been there. He tells her since the storm hit, an she says she’ll get him out of there. He introduces himself as Clayton, and wonders why she’d want to help a stranger.

John asks if Victor is sure he doesn’t want to come. Of this, Victor is most certain, but he’ll watch. John gets on the raft – which is a few logs tied together – and it sinks a little. A crocodile swims toward John, who shoots at it, and jumps off the raft/ Victor says they’ve had the fear taken out of them, but you’d think she’d be full. John says it looks like they’re still roomies. Victor laughs. I love Victor.

Morgan buries Purvis. Jim asks what difference it makes. Al looks at the truck owner’s journal, and we find out he was called Polar Bear. Wen says he had many memorable sayings, but Al doesn’t think he’d like them written on the faces of the dead. Morgan says they’re going to find Victor and the others, including the guy who owned the truck. Jim says they don’t even know if he’s alive. Sarah says they wouldn’t have stolen the truck if he couldn’t have taken care of himself. June says Quinn looked like he could too. Jim wonders about what that nut job said; she knows what Morgan is capable of. He asks Morgan what that means, and Morgan says, it doesn’t matter. Jim tells Morgan they agreed to come with him; they deserve to know. Sarah says this makes twice today she agreed with him. Morgan says he has things he needs to make up for; the same as everyone else. He suggests they hit the road. Sarah asks, what if they say no? Morgan says he’ll take the truck and keep doing what he’s doing. Wen asks if he knows how to drive eighty-thousand pounds of steel at eight miles an hour. Al says she does. She wants to talk to the guy who set this up. Sarah takes out a knife, but Morgan knocks it out of her hand with a shovel. She says they’re going with him.

A zombie starts to walk across the water, and the crocodile grabs him. Victor says he’s not going anywhere, but John says there’s got to be a way to them. Victor asks if he really thinks he’s going to find June. He says he found her before; he thought she was dead. Victor says look what that got him. John says he knows there are no happy endings, but they have to fight every day, and he found someone to fight with him. He takes out the piece of candy, and says it’s her favorite. He’s not changing his mind, and when he sees her, he’s giving it to her. If they don’t fight every day, they’re no better than the past. Victor says, the only difference between them and the past, is one day’s rations.

Commercial break with an interesting Walking Dead ad, announcing Rick Grimes’s final episodes – beginning October 7th. Ya’ll know he’s leaving, right? At this point, I can’t even make myself care. That show would be totally depressing without Negan. They had their chance to balance things out several times, and blew it. And we’re back.

John sees a zombie stuck in a truck toward the top of a cliff.

Luci tells Clayton that she’s getting him out. He says it’s nice thinking that she’s willing to help, but she can’t. The car is the only thing keeping him together. She says there has to be something she can do. She asks if there’s anyone he wants her to find; anyone looking for him? He says, one, but it’s the only person he doesn’t want to see; the rest are gone. He says he never thought he’d go out like this, and laughs. He’d love to have one last beer. Luci says he’s going to get one. She gives him a radio, and says keep talking to her. He tells her no one uses channel 17.

John and Victor look up at the truck. It has a square, plastic cover over the bed. Victor says, it will never work, but John says, it will float better than wood. Victor assumes John wants him to retrieve it. John says the only reason he can’t is because of the injury Victor and his friends gave him.

Morgan puts a box along the road. Sarah says Polar Bear should have changed up his route. Al asks if she thinks them stealing his truck is his fault. Sarah says she couldn’t help it if he left his keys in his rig. Morgan says, if they’re lucky, he’s still around. Jim says, or walking around with things written in Sharpie on his face. They decide to get going, and Morgan writes on the box, if you need help, vhf channel 4. June wonders if John will see it, and Morgan says they’ll find him. One way or another, they’ll find them all.

Victor gets on top of the side of the car. John tells him, release the latch, and gravity will do the rest. Victor says he knows what he’s doing. He looks inside and sees a bottle of primo whiskey on the floor of the car. He reaches in, trying to dodge the zombie, and John is like, what the hell? Victor grabs the bottle, but the zombie grabs him – I say, oh, sh*t! – and pulls him into the car – I say, oh sh*t! The car tumbles down the cliff – I say, oh sh*t! – and into the water – I say, oh sh*t! John runs to the car. The zombie has been impaled by a branch, and Victor has the whiskey. And it’s not even Pappy van Winkle.

John tells Victor that he could have gotten himself killed, and Victor says, but he didn’t. John can’t believe he almost killed himself, so he can tie one on. Victor says good luck with raft two. He’ll be a noisemaker when John needs him. John works on the raft.

Luci checks a beer truck, but no surprise, it’s empty.

John loads the raft with some supplies.

Luci opens a garage. Over the radio, Clayton asks how it’s going. She says she’s getting close; she knows it. She looks in a fridge, and it looks like mine when I first moved to NYC – empty.

John prepares the new raft, reinforcing the seams, and making some kind of flotation thing to attach.

Luci finds a six pack, but it’s root beer.

Victor drinks. John asks if he drank before. Victor says he was an amateur; now he’s gone pro. John asks, what for? and Victor says he drinks to forget. John says, forget what? and Victor says, that he has no one to drink with anymore. John has things to look forward to. He only has things to look back on. John tells him that he’s not trying. He can have someone, just not here. Victor asks what about the distraction, and John says he’s got it.

John shows Victor how he’s rigged up an alarm. He asks if Victor doesn’t think it will work, and Victor say he didn’t think John would survive a bullet to the gut, but here they are. John says he’s just got to believe. Is he coming? Victor says, yeah.

Clayton asks Luci if she’s okay. She says she’s sorry. She thought she had it. Clayton says there’s nothing to be sorry about. She tried to help. Not a lot of people are still willing to do that, especially for a stranger. She says, it doesn’t matter; she failed. Clayton tells her there was a time when he didn’t want to be around anyone. He found a job that took him away from the world. Away from everyone he ever knew or cared about. Then when the world changed, everyone went away, and he realized he’d made the biggest mistake of his life. Luci asks what he did, and he says he couldn’t help the people he ran away from, so he helped the people still around. Luci doesn’t understand, and he says just because she couldn’t help him, doesn’t mean she can’t help someone else.

John starts the alarm. He asks Victor if he really needs a drink before they reach the other side. The zombies start to come. John and Victor put the raft in the water, and start to paddle.

Luci sees one of the boxes. I knew it! I knew that’s where the beer would come from. She sees Morgan’s message about channel 4, and finds the beer.

Victor and John continue to paddle. The zombies gravitate toward the noise. It starts to lose steam, and I say, nooo. John says, that’s a pickle. They’re almost halfway across, and John says, fiberglass is strong. The raft suddenly moves, and John loses his oar. Another, oh sh*t. It’s the crocodile, going under them and circling. John shoots at it. It’s that quiet moment before something happens, and the crocodile bumps the raft again. The raft begins to take on water through a crack. John thinks they can make it, but Victor is like, no. They can’t fight if they’re dead. It didn’t work, and it’s never going to. The only reason Victor went along is because he felt sorry for John, but he won’t die for him. He tells John to fire his gun, and they’ll swim back. John shoots the gun, and the zombies start to come in to the water, where the crocodile picks them off. Victor says he can’t. He’s going to live, even if only for a while longer. They swim back.

Luci comes back to the car. Clayton says she doesn’t give up. She says she watched someone die, and couldn’t do anything to make it better. She’s not letting it happen again. She gives him the beer, and he can’t believe it’s cold. She tell him the first aid kit had ice. He drinks deep, and smiles. He thanks her, and asks if he can give her something; a couple of notebooks in the back. They list places he left supplies; things that will help her. She’ll read about it. She says his job that took him away, what was it? He takes her hand and says he drove trucks. It’s him! It’s Polar Bear!

Luci puts the empty bottle on Clayton’s grave. She turns the radio to channel 4, and says, whoever left the box, if they’re listening, thank you. What they left helped more then they’ll ever know. Morgan says, Luciana, is that you? and Luci says, Morgan?

Victor leaves John sitting on the ground, and watching the water. He seems pissed, and goes inside. John takes the candy out. It says black licorice on the wrapper (like that’s anyone’s favorite candy in this century). He unwraps it. I’m very distracted that it looks like a caramel, and I wonder why. Because it’s old? How does black licorice change color? Or is it not really black licorice? He eats it, and it no longer matters.

Sarah’s truck barrels down the road. In the back, Morgan looks at the notebooks. Luci says, he said they were important, and could help. Morgan asks if he knew where she found the beer, and she says she didn’t get the chance to tell him. She thinks he’d like what they’re doing. The radio comes on. Charlie asks if someone is there, and we see her with Alicia by one of the boxes.

Morgan asks if they need help, and where are they. Alicia tells Charlie, it could be trap, but realizes it’s Morgan. She tells him that they’re all right, and by mile marker 84; they just found the box. He says they’re just north of there; they’re coming back. Crazy Lady breaks in and says, she needs him to be strong. Morgan says he knows her, and to listen to him. She’s wrong. What she said about helping people, it doesn’t make them weak; it makes all of them strong. He’s been where she is – stuck. She thinks what she’s doing is the right thing; the only thing, but it’s not. So they’re going to keep finding the people they’re looking for. It’s working already. They’re going to find them and help them, and then they’re going to help her.

Sarah says, that van Al was talking about – Al says, it’s a tank. Sarah thinks they found it. It’s at their back door. They all look, and see Al’s tank heading toward them. Jim says, holy sh*t! and Al says, it’s sluggish as hell. Sarah asks what they think the truck is. She tries to speed up, and Wen says it’s gaining on them. Sarah presses the gas harder.

Morgan gets on the radio, and asks what Crazy Lady is doing. Crazy Lady gets near them and opens the top where the artillery is. She says she told him that she was making him strong. Morgan tells everyone to get down.

Alicia and Charlie hear gunfire on the radio. Alicia says, Morgan? and gets silence.

Next time, Crazy Lady hooks herself another zombie, Alicia wants to keep moving, Jim wants to move away from things that want to eat them, and June asks what’s next?

👓 New NYC Wife?

Could this by Carole’s replacement? Frankly, after the reunion, I’m glad to see the back of Carole. I liked her until she found “her voice.” Apparently, that voice is pretty nasty. It’s strange, but when you watch these people for years, they sort of become like one of the family. Albeit, a lot of the time they’re those cousins you love, but at a distance. It always makes me sad when there’s a rift that can’t be mended, and this one is a heart-breaker.

General Hospital

On the phone, Sonny tells someone to let him know what they find out. Mike approaches Sonny, and says he needs to know how much trouble he made, referring to the body in the basement at Charlie’s.

Kristina tells Julian it’s a shame she can’t hang out at Charlie’s. He asks, why not? and she says, the owner. She thinks it’s a clever mob front, and he says he’s out of that. She tells him that he’s said that before. He says it’s a legit business. Like it or not, he’s here stay. If not, there’s the door.

Jordan tells someone on the phone she appreciates their assistance. Let her know if the PCPD can help in the future. She tells Curtis that Carter is being remanded to his adult children, but he’s being brought to Port Charles as they speak. In the interim, he needs a place to stay, and she arranged for it to be there. Curtis thanks her, saying it means a lot, and more to Nina if it leads to the daughter she didn’t know she has.

Maxie wonders what the homeless lady was doing at the church, and tells Nina that she felt bad. The woman really smelled, and she wanted to take her for a spa day. There’s a delivery for Nina. Nina says it’s from her mother’s lawyers.

Sam tells Jason sorry she didn’t give him notice she was going to Oregon; her sister needed her support. Jason says Sonny told him that Kristina is moving back, and Sam says Kristina is staying with her. Their mother offered, but she doesn’t want friction. Jason asks if she’s playing peacemaker, and Sam says she’s giving Kristina space. It’s hard getting over a relationship, after giving up time and emotions. She needs to take a step back to rebuild her life, and figure out what she wants and needs without pressure. She was lucky to have support, so she’s giving Kristina the same. Jason says she’s a good sister. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Drew. He wants to see Scout, but thinks it might be a bad time. Jason says he was just leaving, and asks how Oscar is.

Josslyn tells Oscar to keep his eyes closed, and they approach her decorated bench. She says she’s shocked his mom let him come out after being released from the hospital. She notices the balloons are deflated and the crepe paper isn’t looking so great. She tells him it looked less depressing yesterday. He loves that she did it; it’s not her fault. He’ll try his best not pass out next anniversary. Josslyn says waking up in the ER must be scary, even though it turned out to not be serious.

Carter Buckley is brought to Curtis’s room. Curtis and Jordan introduce themselves. Carter says he’d shake hands, but… and shows them the cuffs. Curtis says before they start, condolences on his recent prognosis. Carter appreciates it, and wonders what the meeting is about. Curtis knows he was arrested for brokering illegal adoptions, and has a question about one of his clients. Carter was advised not to discuss that, and Curtis says he doesn’t want to make trouble. He just has a question about one client. What can Carter tell him about Madeline Reeves?

Maxie asks if Nina wants her to get rid of the box, but Nina rips it open. She looks inside, and says it’s a box of stuff from her childhood. She takes out some scarves, her first running gloves, and a framed picture of her and Nathan when he was a baby. Maxie looks at it.

Kristina tells Julian that she needs a job, and asks if he’s hiring. He says he needs a bartender, and she tells him she’s an expert, but not in an obnoxious mixologist way. He wonders how much it would piss her father off if he hired her, and says he’s not interested in making waves, especially with Sonny. Kristina says Julian sells Sonny’s coffee, so he obviously has a stake in the business; he should be on board.

Mike is concerned about what happens if Julian get the go-ahead for renovation. Sonny says they don’t know the extent of what he’s doing, and so far, he’s been able to block him getting a permit; it’s a non-issue. Mike says what if the next one isn’t rejected? What is he going to do? Mike says he thought he was watching Sonny’s back when he moved the body, but he created more problems. Sonny says he’ll take care of it. Mike says he created the mess; he’s cleaning it up for good this time.

Sam asks if something happened to Oscar, and Jason says he collapsed and ended up in the ER, but he seemed okay. He leaves, and Sam asks Drew, what’s going on? He says he just wanted to see his favorite girl.

Josslyn says she and Oscar still have a lot to learn about each other. He asks if she means the low blood sugar thing, and says it’s nothing to worry about. She says it sounds silly, and bringing it up is trivial in the grand scheme of things, but something is bothering her. She found out the riddle he texted to her wasn’t from him.

Sonny tells Mike there’s nothing to fix, and Mike says don’t treat him like that. Sonny understands Mike was trying to protect him, but he was eighteen, and he’s not that kid anymore; he has resources. Julian, he can handle. He tells Mike the less he knows, the better. If he really wants to help, then let it go. it’s not good for him to be stressed.

Julian tells Kristina, if Sonny has a problem, he’s the one who will hear about it. Why doesn’t she try somewhere else? He has some business to take care of, and Kristina says she’ll help with the garnishes, and gets behind the bar. Valerie comes in, and tells Julian that she has a message from the city council. They’ve reached a decision about his permit.

Sonny says it’s time to take Mike for his checkup. Jason comes in, and Sonny suggests he come along so they can talk. Mike says it’s ridiculous. Sonny has better things to do than babysit him. He has a nurse, and one of Sonny’s guys can drive. He tells Sonny to focus on his business, and he’ll feel like less of a burden. Sonny agrees.

Valerie tells Julian that his renovation plans were approved. Kristina tells him that he’s low on vermouth. Valerie is excited to see her, and Kristina apologizes for not texting. She tells Valerie that she’s moving back, and Valerie says she missed hanging out with her. Kristina says she just started working at Charlie’s, and Julian says he hasn’t offered her a job. Valerie says she can vouch for Kristina’s classic cocktails. Kristina starts rattling off cocktail recipes. Julian says he has to make some calls; they’ll talk later. Valerie says if she keeps reciting recipes, he’ll hire her just to shut her up. She wonders why Kristina is back when she’s living with Parker.

Drew holds Scout, and Sam says he has the magic touch. Usually when she needs a nap, she’s all kinds of fussy. He says, it’s crazy. Kids grow so quickly, and change so fast. It’s like a lifetime in a few months. He wishes he could slow it down. Sam suggest she put Scout down for her nap, so they can talk. Drew says he could use it.

Oscar says he should have told Josslyn that Cameron helped. He’s not best the at romantic gestures. She says, he is; he put the video together. He put a lot of thought into it. He says, the point is, there is a lot they don’t know, even after a year. She says the good news is, they’re young and have plenty of time to figure each other out. Geez. Not trying to tug at the audience’s heartstrings too hard or anything.

Carter says he never heard of Madeline. Curtis shows him her picture. He says Carter looks pale. Carter says he’s fine. He’s sorry, but he has an obligation to protect the identity of his clients. Jordan says, here’s the deal. They’re sorry he has a terminal illness, but compassionate release can be revoked as soon as he aids and abets another crime. Carter says, fine; he’ll talk.

Nina takes out a note from the executor. It’s what Madeline left her. She lifts a jewelry box out. Inside is a note from her mom. In the envelope is a necklace, and a note that says, this will mend a broken heart. Nina says, this means something.

Sonny tells Jason that Mike is on his way to the hospital. Mike feels good and focused today. Jason wonders what happens if Julian gets the permit to renovate; if they find the body and gun. Sonny says they can find a contractor they can control, and put a person on the crew. Jason says he can inspect after hours. If anything turns up, he’ll make sure they’re the only ones who know.

Julian calls Kim, and leaves a message asking about Oscar, and telling her that he’s there if she needs him. Kristina tells Valerie that she and Parker broke up. They’re lives were going in opposite directions, and if she stayed, she’d be fading further into the background. She needed to find her own path. Valerie is all for it, especially if it keeps her there. She’s missed Kristina. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Sam asks Drew, what’s going on with Oscar? Drew says Oscar stayed the night at the hospital, and Drew stayed there until he was discharged. Sam asks if something serious is going on, and Drew tells her. Oscar has a brain tumor. It’s malignant and inoperable. She’s so sorry; Drew is too. She says Oscar must be so scared, and Drew says, that’s the thing, Oscar has no clue. He was already so sick when Kim found out, she chose to keep it from him. She doesn’t want him worrying about dying, and wants him to enjoy living, and being a regular teenager. Sam asks if he agrees.

Josslyn tells Oscar it will be their goal for this year. He says they’re setting goals now. He says they don’t know a lot about each other, and should start finding out. What is something Josslyn has wanted to do, but hasn’t? She says make out with her boyfriend in the woods. He thinks he can help her with that, and takes her hand.

Nina can’t believe her mom remembered. She holds up the necklace, a jade half-heart. Nina says Annie was her first Broadway show when she was little. She loved it. Maxie did too, and gets all excited. Nina says she was obsessed. She used to run around singing every song, then go to her mom’s bedroom and take out the necklace, pretending it was a locket like Annie’s. Maxie asks, where’s the other half?

Carter tells Curtis that he’d recognize Madeline anywhere. She was one of his clients. He was hired to find parents for a baby. It was unusual. Her daughter was in a coma, and gave birth to a baby girl. Madeline thought her son-in-law had something to do with her daughter’s condition. She kept the pregnancy under wraps, so he wouldn’t find out. When the time came, he arranged for the baby to be sent somewhere he couldn’t find her. Curtis asks who he ended up giving baby to.

Maxie tells Nina, way of making peace. Nina says, it’s kind of late, but Maxie says maybe she found it hard to ask forgiveness. Nina wonders what the significance is of the missing half.

Carter couldn’t tell Curtis who it was. Curtis says he must have records. Carter says if he did, they’re long gone. Keeping records in his business is a giant liability. He’s sorry he’s not more help. Jordan thanks him, and say they’re done there. Carter says, for what it’s worth (the phrase of the week), he wishes he could do more. The officers take him away. Jordan tells Curtis that she’s sorry it didn’t pan out the way he wanted it to. At least they know the child survived. Curtis says they know more than that.

Kristina asks Valerie what’s new, and Valerie says she’s taking a detective exam. Kristina says they have to celebrate, but Valerie says not until she passes. Kristina says she’ll miss seeing Valerie in her uniform. She rocks it.

Sonny tells Jason if they could control how the body is found, it would be a weight off his shoulders, and his dad’s. Jason asks if Mike has said any more, but Sonny doesn’t want to ask. Mike gets agitated and confused, and needs to stay calm. On a day like today, he seems like his old self, and it’s tempting to ask, but he doesn’t want to take the risk.

Mike looks in the window at Charlie’s. Inside, Kristina makes Valerie promise they’ll hang out after she slays the exam. Valerie says, deal, and tells Kristina, welcome home. She leaves, and Mike hides around a corner.

Drew tells Sam that he thinks Oscar has the right to know what he’s facing, but up until a year ago, Kim was raising him alone. Who is he to contradict, if she thinks letting him live his best life in the time he’s got is the best thing? Sam sees the point. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. Once you know the truth, it’s hard to unknow. Drew says they’re just starting to get to know and understand each other. Oscar is starting to trust him as a father, and now he’s keeping a secret. Unless a miracle happens, he’s going to lose his son. Sam says, miracles happen every day. She’s seen them for herself, and hopes for a miracle for Oscar. She tells Drew to love him as best he can, and spend as much time as possible with him now.

As the come out of the woods, Josslyn tells Oscar, it was a worthwhile experience. They almost kiss, and Oscar’s phone dings. He says his mom is picking him up, and asks if she wants a ride. She says she needs to clean up, and he says he’ll help. His phone dings again, and he figures he’d better go before she freaks. He has an idea. Between now and their next anniversary, they should keep this up. She says, making out? and he says, that too, but doing stuff they’ve always wanted to do, but together. She says, like a bucket list for people with lots of time. She likes it.

Nina tells Maxie, hypothetically, maybe her mother felt something other than greed; maybe affection or guilt. She knew Nina loved the necklace, but dividing it in half might have meaning. In the musical, Annie thinks finding her parents will mend her broken heart. Maybe her mom meant it literally. Maybe she’s sending a message from the grave that Nina didn’t miscarry; that her child is alive somewhere.

Jordan asks Curtis, how is this not a dead end? Curtis says, she heard him. Madeline hired a private nurse, not to mention a doctor. Where there’s money, there’s a trail.

Sonny tells Jason that his dad overheard when he was talking to Carly. He was upset, but not disoriented. He knew what happened, and that if the body was uncovered, Sonny could be implicated. Jason says Mike seemed okay when he got there. Sonny says he told Mike that he has resources to handle it. Jason says, that’s true, but Sonny says, a lot could still go wrong.

Kristina congratulates Julian. She bets the renovation is going to keep him busy. He might need help. He says he’ll be busy managing the contractor, and won’t have time to do interviews. She can have a job on one condition – that she start now.

Mike sneaks downstairs in Charlie’s, and looks around with a flashlight. He sees some pipes, and takes out a wrench.

On Monday, Valentin says Madeline was telling the truth, Michael gets a letter from Nelle, And Mike tells Kristina that she’s not supposed to be there.

💀 I saw the first episode of The Purge (USA), and thought it was pretty good. Part of it focused on a group that was working on purge night, and I thought, that would be my luck. Stuck at the office. I liked the second and third movie (haven’t seen the fourth), but I wasn’t crazy about the first one. I think it’s a very scary concept, but that blond guy talked so much, I thought I could have killed him ten times while he was going on and on. This is a good choice for a series, since there’s a wealth of stories that can be pried out of it.

🏈 On September 24th, Bravo will premiere it’s new show, Bravo Play by Play hosted by Jerry O’Connell. Originally, it was supposed to be called Real Men Watch Bravo, which I thought was brilliant, but since we’re living in a super-sensitive society now, it was changed. Enough already. They showed a snippet on Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live, and it looked great. It’s not The People’s Couch (what happened to that?), but I’ll take it. Jerry was a guest that night, along with LuAnn (The Real Housewives of NYC), who wore the outfit she would have worn had she attended the reunion. It was fabulous and sparkly. Andy took a poll on the best NYC reunion outfit, and I was pleased that everyone agreed with me that it was Bethenny. I wouldn’t mind a dress-up box with all of the reunion outfits in it.

Fear the Walking Dead

June watches a video of John talking about finding her. She gets out of the tank and surveys the damage the storm has wrought. She tries to get a radio signal. She says she never should have left John at the bus, and talks about seeing the video. She says he knew; he believed. But if Al had asked June that question today, she doesn’t think she could answer like he did. He knows her. When the going gets tough, she runs – or worse. She says things are pretty tough right now. She wants to know how he believed. Al comes back and asks if she’s trying to raise John. She can’t find diesel and tells June to conserve the battery. They can’t recharge.

The next day, Al whittles, while June pikes a zombie in the head. They sit and watch nothing. June says they can’t keep going out just far enough to make it back before sundown. They have to keep going. They’re almost out of water. The radio crackles. June asks if it’s John, but the voice isn’t clear.

A half zombie is attached to the front of Sarah’s truck. She stops, telling Wen it’s a clean hit. She takes a look, and pikes it in the head. She asks if Wen remembers when dad hit the seagull; it was a one in a million shot. She tells him that she still gets the point. He says, half. Morgan tries the radio, and gives their location. He says they’re headed west. He’s got help.

June thinks they should go to higher ground and find the signal. Al asks if she killed the camera. June says she killed the battery watching the tape. Al isn’t looking well, and says it’s low blood sugar. June tells her to stay. She feels Al’s forehead and says she’s warm. She wonders if whoever was on the radio has food. They should find them, then come back and fix the van.

Morgan says he’s leaving the channel open, and will be listening. Sarah asks if he really thinks he’ll find his people. He says he has to try. Someone did that for him for as long as they could. She asks if it worked. Morgan is silent, and she says it didn’t. He says, it will work, and repeats the location.

June hears static. Al walks behind her. June asks if Al’s vision is okay. Al says she’s fine; it’s just been a while since she’s eaten. We hear zombie noises. June says they might be done walking. Are they going to ride a zombie? They see a car, kill the zombie inside, and drive. June keeps trying the radio, but gets nothing. She says they need to find higher ground, and apologizes for using up the battery. Al understands. It’s the next best thing to talking to him. June asks if Al has ever found someone, but Al says, when you’re collecting other people’s stories, you stop having your own.

June asks if anyone can hear her. Crazy Lady is listening in, and tells her zombie, Purvis, that he made them weak.

Sarah calls Morgan Momo. He asks her to stop, but she says she can’t’ She likes it. Morgan hears June for a moment and responds. He tells Wen that he’s taking stroll. He’s going to try and get a stronger signal. Wen asks what they do, and he says, wait. Sarah says it looks like they’re tailgating. Morgan walks, and says he hears them; hold on.

June tells Al to keep driving, but Al throws up. She says maybe it’s not her blood sugar. June says it’s a bug. The van suddenly drives past, and Al takes off after it, saying she’s stopping that SOB. June tells her to slow down, but that’s a no. They speed along behind the van, crash into something, and go into a spin. June says Al is sick; screw the van. She needs antibiotics. Al says she has them – in the van. They have to get it back.

Morgan sees Crazy Lady at one of the boxes. He tells her, what’s written is the truth; you can take what you need. Things are tough out here. What’s in the box helped him, and could help her. She says she doesn’t need any help; she’s not weak. Morgan tells her that he didn’t say she was. He tells her again to take what she needs, and he keeps walking. She watches him. She says, he’s right. Things are tough out there. He should be careful.

Crazy lady fills a bottle with puddle water.

A zombie toddles toward the car. June tells al to stay with her; keep talking. She asks where Al got the van, but Al doesn’t want to get into it right now. June says she hasn’t seen many reporters with hardware like that, and Al asks how many did she know? They hear gunfire, and Al says those are hers; it’s close. She says June can go; she can do this. It’s the only way to get the meds she needs. June doesn’t want to leave, but gives Al the radio. She says if she doesn’t’ come back, to get in touch with the people they heard.

June sees an overturned bus, and hears zombie noises coming from it. She sneaks around the bus, and sees the van with the door open, and a pile of zombie bodies nearby. She slides around the other side, and peaks in the bus, where a trapped zombie is flailing around. A man tells her, drop the gun, while he has one pointed at her head. She does what he asks, and says she just needs some medicine. He tells her, hands behind her head; move.

On her knees in the road, June tells him that he doesn’t have to do this. He continues to hold the gun on her, and asks where her friend is; she must need medicine for someone. She says she doesn’t need the van, just the medicine, and he says, this isn’t a conversation. June says, what he’s doing, she’s been there, but someone showed her that she didn’t have to live like that. Neither does he. They can work together; help each other. He says, no, they can’t. We’re all the same, doing what they can to protect who they care about, know, and love. That’s where it stops. June says she can’t let her friend die. He says if he comes, he’ll be the first to go when things go south. June jumps up and knocks him down.

Al hears a gunshot. She gets out of the truck, and tries to remove the tire that’s blown.

June struggles with the man. She gets the better of him, and gets the gun. She makes him lie on the ground, and tries to start the van. He says, it’s out of gas. He thought there was diesel in the bus, but there wasn’t. She tells him, get up. Inside the van, she asks him where the cipro is. What did he do with it? He says he pulled over, and killed the dead who broke out of the bus. It’s not his fault if it’s not there. He says, you can’t help people, and June tells him to go. He says she knows what it’s like out there, and she says he didn’t believe her. He admits he didn’t. He jumps down, and she locks the van.

June goes through everything. She finds a radio, and calls Al. She asks where the medicine is. Al can’t even stand, and falls when she tries. A zombie struggles up from the mud, and its leg breaks at the ankle. It still manages to grab Al, who holds it back just barely. She has a knife strapped to her leg, and works to get it. On the radio, June says she can’t find it. Al finally get the knife, but she’s not strong enough to stab the zombie in the head. She kicks it under the car, and kick’s the jack down, crushing the zombie’s head. June asks if she copies. Al grabs the radio, and June asks, where’s the medicine? Al says, there isn’t any. She needed to get the van back. June sits in the middle of a mess, and throws the radio into it.

Al thanks June. June says she was lucky there were meds on the bus. She could have died. Al says June could have died too, but they didn’t. The van will keep them breathing; they just have to get diesel. June says she almost killed to get medicine that wasn’t there. Al says, someone who stole the van; June doesn’t get it. June says she does, but it almost got them killed. Al says, almost did. June says she’s trying not to be that person. She’s been running from who she was and what she did, and almost became that person again. Why is the van so important? Al says it will keep them alive. June tells Al that she says the truth matters; is she telling the whole truth? Al says the tapes are all that’s left of dreamers. June says, people she barely knew, and Al says, not all of them. June saw one of them. June says, you can’t help people if you’re dead. Al says it’s not just other people’s stories on the tapes; it’s her story. The people she knew; the people she loves, and she’s not leaving them behind. June ponders this, and nods. She sits down on the ground next to Al.

Morgan climbs a water tower. Ha-ha! That sounds like a children’s book. He radios, asking if she still hears him. He doesn’t think he can stick around. Al hears him talking.

June grabs the radio. Morgan says they’re packing up to leave, but wanted to give their location once more. June says, it’s her; she’s with Al, but the only reply is dead air. Al says, the battery is dead. June looks at a map, and says, he’s fifty miles away, and they have enough gas. Al says they need the van, but June says they’ll miss him if they don’t leave now. Al says they’ll catch up.

Al gets out of the car, and tells June to go. June says, Morgan is out there. That means John and the others might be too. They’re alive. It doesn’t have to be this way for her. Al closes the door, and starts heading to the van. That medicine worked fast. June starts the car. Al stops, and shoots in the air. She turns toward the car, as June backs up toward her. Al gets in, and they drive off.

Wen doesn’t think they’re coming. Morgan says, it don’t look that way. Wen suggests the keep on truckin’. Morgan gets in, and Jim hands him a beer, saying he looks like someone who needs a drink. Sarah sees a car in her rearview mirror. It’s June and Al. June says sorry they’re late, and Morgan says they’re here now; that’s what matters. She asks about John and everyone else. Morgan says he’s still looking, and introduces the others. He asks Sarah to get them some food, and she brings out one of the boxes. June asks if they’re the ones putting the boxes out, and Morgan says it’s the person who owns the truck. They’re returning it, and making drops along the way. June says they’re helping people, and Morgan says, that’s the idea. She asks to borrow his radio.

June gets on the radio and says, she doesn’t know their name or if they’re listening, but the last time she did this, they were. If they can hear her, she’s sorry about what she did, making him walk away. She wants to show him that he’s wrong about something. That we don’t just watch out for the people we know. She says they’re at the mile 27 marker. They have food, water, and supplies; whatever they need to get back on their feet. A man’s voice replies, is that you, cipro? June says, yes. He says he managed to find diesel. Her friend shouldn’t leave her ride sitting around. She says if he wants to come, he won’t be who he was; the guy who held a gun on her. He says, my name is Quinn. She says, June.

Morgan asks if Al is okay. And she says something hit her hard. She says it looks like he found new ride to Alexandria. He says she’s still welcome to join them. She says, just so he knows, she doesn’t plan on staying. She wonders what he knows about the guy who the truck belongs to, and he says, not much. She wishes she had her camera.

Quinn radios June. He says he’s at the mile 27 marker, but she’s not there. She tells him, check again. He says he’s looking right at it. He takes a closer look, and realizes it’s been changed. The Crazy Lady’s zombie-on-a-stick pops out, and attacks Quinn. June asks if he’s there.

Crazy Lady turns off the radio. She says she has to let Purvis go now. He did what he was supposed to. She’s going to set him free to keep on truckin’. She pokes him with a stick, and when he backs up, she closes the cab door. She writes on Quinn’s face – people you know. She tells him that he isn’t going to be weak anymore. He opens his eyes, and she smiles maternally at him.

Next time, Quinn returns; John, Victor, and Luci are still alive; and an alligator eats a zombie.

👂 On Talking Dead, Jenna Elfman gave a colorful account about June and Quinn’s tussle for the gun. She repeatedly, albeit accidentally, kneed him in the goods. And then there was the long ride home…

📑 My Excuse…

I’m running late tonight because I had the pleasure of seeing the Downton Abbey exhibit, as well as catching up with an old friend, in NYC today. Tomorrow (9/3) is the last day, but it’s going to other cities. If you’re a Downton fan, it’s a must-see. Holograms, costumes, props, entire rooms from the show are on display. It’s a multi-media extravaganza. There’s even a virtual quiz to see which staff position you’d be suited for. If you must know, I would not have been hired at all. I think it was the question where I answered that I’d give a malicious laugh that took me out of the running.
