What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Well, this was a surprise. Both the soap sites and the digital guide claimed MLB would be on today. The iffy day was Friday. Ten minutes after 3, I said to myself, I should check, and GH was on. So I missed that ten minutes, but here are the takeaway points. Brando brought Dev to Jax’s for the pre-homecoming thing. Before Brando went inside, Cyrus called him, and said some of his men went rogue, and were the ones who beat Brando up. Nice try. Cyrus wanted to make it up to Brando, by getting him some new shop equipment, but Brando said no. Cyrus wanted Brando on his team (even mobsters use Zoomspeak now), and when Brando asked, which one? Cyrus said they’d talk, and went into Charlie’s. Sam was following Jason, who was following Cyrus. In the bar, Cyrus told Julian that if he needed help, just ask for it. Nina called Ava, who was at Windymere, wondering what was going on with the blackmailer thing. Ava acted like it was all good, but said she didn’t want to talk about it right then, and didn’t want to give Nikolas any ammunition. That’s about all you need to know. Here’s where I came in…

Nikolas goes through the mail, and pulls something out. Ava asks if something is wrong, and he asks how she could do this behind his back.

Jason and Sam look peek in the window at Charlie’s, and see Julian with Cyrus. Sam wonders why Cyrus is there, and Jason tells her that Julian had dabbled in drug trafficking long ago. Maybe Cyrus is trying to recruit him. Sam says, there’s one way to find out.

At Jax’s place, Carly takes a ton of pictures of the kids, who are ready for homecoming. She says Sonny is going to love them. Jax asks how Carly is feeling, now that she knows Nelle was found. She says she’s relieved. She hated keeping it from Sonny, but she did it because of Mike. She’s not sure now was the time to tell Sonny, because Mike’s passing is so recent, but Jason made her realize she was robbing Sonny of the chance to be able to support her. They’ve had too many secrets between them. Jax says he hates keeping a secret from Nina; the last thing she needs is another Valentin. But if it comes out that he helped cover it up, he doesn’t want Nina being pulled in as an accessory. Carly says, that won’t happen; there’s no evidence to be found. He says Nina couldn’t help being sympathetic to Nelle, at least on the level of being a mom who wanted to be with her child. Nelle’s death hit her hard. Portia overhears, and asks how Nelle died. Carly says, her body was found on the Pennsylvania side of the river (🍷), but no cause death has been determined yet. Elizabeth says she’s glad they found Nelle. Everyone will have closure, including Wiley. Now Carly doesn’t have to look over her shoulder. Josslyn asks what they’re talking about, and Carly says, how beautiful she looks. Jax says homecoming is going to start soon, but Josslyn says he knows they can’t be the first ones there.

Cameron asks how Trina is feeling. She asks if he means about going to the dance, since the last time, they were kidnapped and her dad was killed. He says, sorry. Sometimes he should just shut up. She says, sometimes he should, but not this time. It’s hard, but the only thing she needs to feel safe is him. Dev hears them, and tells Josslyn that she looks… some word that sounds like eureka. He says, too bad Mike isn’t there to see her. She says she’s hoping he can. She hopes Mike is looking down, and telling her to have fun. He says he didn’t mean to bring it up, but she says she’s glad to hear about Mike. She goes to join the others, and he looks after her longingly.

Ava tells Nikolas that she can explain, and he says, $10,000 for sheets and bedding? She says she has sensitive skin. Besides, they can afford it. He says not if she keeps throwing his money away on pointless extravagances. She says she expected a certain lifestyle when she moved there. He says cotton sheets were fine in Sonny’s cabin. She could have been sleeping on straw. She asks what that’s supposed to mean, and he says when they were having sex, the thread count was the last thing on her mind. She tells him, says you, and he says sex wasn’t part of the contract. She says she hasn’t forgotten that; she just hasn’t given it much thought. He asks if she regrets sleeping with him.

Sam and Jason go into Charlie’s, and Cyrus says, a pleasure, as always. Sam asks to talk to Julian privately, and Cyrus says, of course (🍷). He says he was sorry to hear about Mike. Family is precious. It’s terrible to lose someone you love.

Julian asks Sam to what he owes the pleasure, and she says she’ll cut to the chase. What’s the deal with Cyrus? He knows Cyrus is a drug trafficker and murderer. She doesn’t believe he just came in for a beer. He says, even kingpins get thirsty. He tells her, Cyrus expressed interest in buying Charlie’s, but he turned Cyrus down. Sam asks why Cyrus is still there, and he says hell if he knows. He’s in no position to turn away business, and doesn’t appreciate the sudden interest. He has to wonder why she’s wasting her time interrogating him, when she should be focusing on her mother. Cyrus tells Jason, his deepest sympathies about the ordeal everyone has gone through, especially Sonny. He must have been torn between his professional demands and his father’s last days. Did his business suffer? Cyrus answers his own question, saying, of course (🍷) not. Jason has Sonny’s back, but there has been trouble, hasn’t there? Jason says he doesn’t know what Cyrus is talking about, and Cyrus says he’s referring to the vicious attack on Brando. It was lucky Jason arrived before Brando was seriously hurt. Jason says Brando insists he can take care of himself, which is fine by him. Cyrus asks if Brando hasn’t been taken under the Corinthos wing.

Brando says he saw Dev talking to Josslyn. He’s no expert, but it looked like there was a connection. Dev asks if Brando really thinks so, and Brando tells him, relax and be himself. He’s got a big night ahead.

Portia wonders if she’s doing the right thing, letting Trina go, and Elizabeth says she’s not going to lie. She’s spent some sleepless nights over it, but she thinks they’re ready. Portia says they are ready, but at least she and Elizabeth are chaperones; chaperones with benefits. Carly tells the kids that Tony is ready with the car, and Jax says, no drinking. Josslyn says she learned her lesson last time, and Cameron says he did too. Carly says, no leaving the dance without Tony, and Jax says, the same rule applies after the dance. Wherever they go to eat, Tony will be watching from a discreet distance. Josslyn suggests they include Tony in the photos, since he’s part of the night. Carly says she told Sonny that she’s going to capture every moment, but Josslyn says he hardly needs more photos. Carly says she doesn’t think so. She tells them to smile, and show how happy they are. The kids pose as she takes more pictures.

Ava asks if Nikolas regrets sleeping together, but he says he asked her first.  She says Nina thinks she’s crazy, and he says, she told Nina? Ava says, they’re friends now, and he says, if what they did was so unimportant, why confide in Nina? She says, unlike him, she happens to have friends who care about her life. He says he’s not surprised Nina thought she was crazy, bringing sex into an arranged marriage from hell. She says as she recalls, there were two of them, and he didn’t object. He says, point taken, and she asks what they do now. He says, go back to the way things were, and she says, just forget they ever had sex? Nikolas smiles.

Julian says he heard Alexis was with Neil when he died from an OD, yet Sam is focusing on him being at the pub with Cyrus. Sam says she thinks he’s up to no good. If he had anything to do with Nelle’s death, it will mean war with Sonny. He says she’s worried Jason would get caught in the crossfire. It’s a valid concern. The best way to take Sonny out would be to take Jason out first. She asks if he’s speaking about Cyrus, or his own experience. He says it’s not his battle. He’s washing his hands of any blood Sonny wants. He’s got his own problems. He excuses himself, and walks away.

Cyrus tells Jason, it sounds like Sonny and his cousin aren’t getting along, and Jason says he can think what he wants. Cyrus says he heard about Dr. Bern… Mr. Bern. He lost his license, then he died from a drug overdose. It’s a terrible shame. Sam says they were all shocked that Neil was using hard drugs. Cyrus wouldn’t happen to know where Neil would have gotten those, would he?

At The Haunted Star, Trina says Portia and Elizabeth aren’t walking in with them, are they? Portia tells her to go in; she and Elizabeth have some catching up to do. They won’t be long. On the way in, Cameron asks how Trina is holding up? She says she’s smiling, right? and he follows her in. Portia tells Elizabeth, it’s taking every ounce of restraint in her being to let Trina out of her sight. Elizabeth is glad she’s not the only one, and Portia suggests they talk about something other than the kids. Elizabeth says she did want talk someone; Britt. Portia says she’s so sorry Elizabeth’s hours were cut, but Elizabeth says she doesn’t have to apologize. Portia says she went to bat for Elizabeth and Epiphany, but she was overruled. Elizabeth says she and Britt have a history. She’s sure that’s one reason. Portia says she’s an excellent nurse. Britt must have an outside vendetta. What reason would she have to sideline them? Elizabeth flashes back to telling Jason what happened, and saying she thinks Britt is trying to get rid of the old guard; the people who know how the hospital is run. Jason says, that makes sense, and it’s no secret the both of them are close with him and Sonny. Cyrus wants them away from whatever he’s planning. Elizabeth tells Portia it’s got nothing to do with her. She’s glad Portia remained in her position at the hospital. They need doctors like her. Portia wonders if Britt knows what she’s getting into. Being Cyrus’s puppet sounds like a dangerous job to her.

Carly told Brando that Dev looked adorable, and Brando suggested Carly not say that to Dev’s face. Carly says it’s great that Brando is looking out for Dev, and he says, Dev is a likeable kid. Although he wears his heart on his sleeve. He thanks Carly for inviting him to the festivities. He had a better time than he thought he would. She says he’s family now. He’s going to get invited to come to events like this whether he wants to or not.

Jax asks if Nina is okay, and she says she’s just being silly. He says, tell him, and she says she was wondering if her son or daughter had a night like this. He says he hopes so, and she says she does too. She hopes they’ve had a happy, normal life. She just wishes she could be a part of it.

Josslyn and Dev walk out on deck, and Josslyn says she’s glad to have a social life after being stuck under house arrest for so long. Dev says, Sonny’s house and grounds are huge, but he still felt confined. She says she’s glad he was there with her, and he says she was glad for someone else to talk to other than her family and the guards. She says he made her laugh, and he tells her that he’s glad he was good for something. She says they’ve been through a lot together, and he tells her again that she looks eureka. She hopes that’s good, and he says, it means gorgeous, which she is even when she’s not dressed up. An aside here. I looked this up, and the word for gorgeous in Turkish is muhteşem, which doesn’t sound like eureka to me. (See more on this below.) Josslyn tells him, that’s what it means to be part of a family; you ignore the messy hair and bunny slippers. He says he knows they’re pretending to be cousins, but he doesn’t see her that way. Not anymore.

Dev says he wants to tell Josslyn… something. She says he might not be her cousin, but she’s happy being his friend. It’s a good thing they get along. She tells him that she said she’d catch up with Dena and Kelsey from volleyball, so she’s going over to say hi.

Cyrus says he’s not sure why Sam would think he knows the drug habits of her mother’s late beau. Sam says maybe he should think harder, and he asks, what’s her point? He reminds her that the charges were dropped that the late DEA agent Taggert and his associates trumped up. He says, this is his cue to leave, but do give her mother his condolences. Sam laughs, and tells him, mention her mother again, and they’ll have a problem. He says he sees, and leaves. Sam tells Jason that she doesn’t like what’s happening here. Apparently, Cyrus tried to buy the bar. His mentioning her mother made her feel like he was taunting her. Jason says, he was definitely pushing the boundaries of the agreement. She asks if Sonny knows, and Jason says, he will.

Trina sits alone, and Cameron brings her some punch. He says, talk to him; what’s up? She says, it turns out homecoming was a big mistake, and he says he gets it. Her dad passed away, and she feels guilty. She suggests he set up a booth in the corner, and he says her dad would want her to live her life and be happy. It’s okay to miss him when she’s hanging out with friends. She says she wishes that night… She’s got to go. He asks her not to leave, but she says she needs a minute, and says, promise she’ll be back. She does, and hands him her drink before she runs out.

Elizabeth says, having Cyrus as Chairman of the Board is bad, right? and Portia says, it’s worse than she can possibly imagine. Elizabeth says she knows Cyrus killed Portia’s ex, and kidnapped her daughter… Portia says, and Elizabeth’s son. Elizabeth says they’re supposed to say allegedly. She can’t imagine what it’s like dealing with him. Portia says Elizabeth has no idea, and thanks her for checking in and caring. Elizabeth says, the good guys have to stick together, and watch each other’s backs. Is she in? Portia says, does Elizabeth have to ask? They go onto the boat.

Cameron asks if Dev has seen Josslyn, and Dev says, she was talking to her friends from volleyball. Cameron says he was talking to Trina, but she ran off. He needs to find her.

Ava tells Nikolas, their marriage is a business arrangement, so sex ought to be off the table. He asks if that’s what she wants, and she asks what he wants. They’re about to kiss, when there’s a knock at the door. Nikolas answers, and it’s Julian. Julian asks if his sister is there, and Ava asks, what’s wrong? He says he needs to talk in private, and slams the living room door in Nikolas’s face. He tells Ava that he’s in trouble, and needs her help.

Brando asks Carly if Jason is with Sonny, but she says she doesn’t think so; why? He says there’s something he wants to talk to Jason about, but it’s not important. Jax asks if anyone wants something else to drink, and Brando says he should be heading out. He thanks Jax for hosting, and Jax thanks him for coming, and says he’ll walk Brando to his car. Nina says she’ll understand if Carly cried, and Carly says if she had, Josslyn would have ignored her for a month. Nina says, the kids probably won’t realize what this night means for years; it’s a watershed moment, even though they think it’s a night out with friends having a good time. She can picture her own child with them, although she knows they’re not the same age. Carly says she missed that moment, but Charlotte will be in high school soon and have her own homecoming. Nina says, that’s unacceptable. Charlotte has to remain a little girl forever. Carly says, damn kids. They grow up anyway. Nina says she’ll be happy to see her child grown up. Thanks to Jax, she’s a little closer. Carly says, tell her about it, and Nina says, there was a nurse named Phyllis Caulfield. She was kind and caring, and seemed like she cared about Nina as a person. She and Jax went to New York and found the jeweler who divided her pendant, and he had an order from 1991 under the name of Phyllis Caulfield. Carly says, the woman who took care of Nina when she was in a coma? and Nina says, her theory and hope is that Phyllis had the pendant divided, one for her and one for her child. If that’s the case, Phyllis may know where her child is now.

Cameron finds Josslyn, and asks if she’s seen Trina. Josslyn says, no; why? and he says, she kind of ran off. They were talking, and she said she’d be back, but she seemed upset. He feels like she shouldn’t be alone. Does Josslyn think he’s overreacting? Josslyn says, no. He’s being a great friend. He thanks her, and says, it’s tough figuring out the right thing to do. She says, tell her about it. At the end of the day, you’ve got to be honest with yourself and the people around you, and follow your heart. He asks if that’s another way of saying, don’t second-guess yourself, and she supposes it is. He asks what she’s doing out there. Dev said she was talking to friends. She says she was, but she needed some fresh air. He asks, what’s up? and she says she’s just tired of letting people down. He asks, when has that ever happened? and she says she can’t always be what people expect. He asks why she’d want to; she’s amazing the way she is. He asks if she remembers when they were counselor’s for Lila’s Kids. There was a kid who was getting bullied. She says, Bijou, and he says Josslyn took Bijou under her wing, and made her feel like she was Josslyn’s best friend. Josslyn says, she was a sweet kid, and he says, Josslyn was the coolest counselor. By the end of the summer, everyone wanted to be friends with Bijou because of her. Has anyone else done the same? He says, at the risk of sounding incredibly dorky, he’s glad she’s always been in his life. She says, it’s not dorky. She’s glad he’s in her life too. He says, just so she knows, she could never let him down. She asks if he means that, and he says, absolutely.

On the phone with Sonny, Jason says there’s been an update in regard to Cyrus. Can Sonny meet with him?

Jax asks what he missed, and Nina says she was bringing Carly up to speed on her search for her daughter, and how he’s helping. She knows it’s a long shot. What are the odds Phyllis would know her child’s whereabouts after all these years? Carly says she and Bobbie found each other years after she’d given up. Nina says they had a rough start, and Carly says look at them now. She can’t imagine life without her mom. Nina says, what if she chases her dream, and instead of a pot of gold, she finds nothing? Jax says, if she stops looking, she’ll never know. Carly says she doesn’t know if Nina’s child had a good or bad life, but she knows Nina has to find them – for their sake. They need to know who their mother is, and how they want be in her life, whatever way works for them. They need to know where they came from. Where they got their eyes; where they got their nose; where they got their crazy hair. Why they’re a terrific dancer. Carly takes Nina’s hand, and says Nina deserves to be a mother.

Dev finds Trina and asks where she went; Cameron was looking for her. She says she tried to rally, but she’s not going to make it. It’s too hard. Her stomach hurts, and she’s going home. He says she should tell Josslyn and Cameron she’s leaving. I’m adding, and her mother. She asks if he has any idea where they are.

Josslyn says they should head back, and Cameron says they should. He moves in for a kiss, confusing the hell out of me.

Ava says Julian came barging in like his hair was on fire; he’s not very subtle. He says it’s about Nelle. She never gave Martin the letter. Someone else has the proof that he was in on the plot to keep Sonny’s grandson from him. She asks, who? and he says, it could be Nelle’s manicurist for all he knows. Nikolas walks in, and Ava says, it’s a private conversation. He says, too bad. This is his living room. Ava says it’s her living room too. There are fifty other rooms in the house, and he has to be there now? Nikolas says, clearly they don’t want him knowing what’s going on. Well, yeah. FYI, Nikolas, that’s why it’s called a private conversation.

Ava gets a call from an unknown number. She answers, and an operator says she has a collect call from Pentenville from Ryan Chamberlain. Will she accept the charges?

Just for the record, it would have said Pentenville, not Unknown. I know. I once got a call from someone in the slammer. Not for anything huge.

There was no preview. Your guess is as good as mine whether it’s on tomorrow, but I’ll be prepared. It wasn’t supposed to be on today, so they are playing with us. Stay strong.

📑 About that word. It wasn’t eureka; it was harika. While I was rooting around, trying to find out what happened in the first ten minutes without actually having to watch it, some diligent recapper surprised me by including it. However, it still doesn’t mean gorgeous, as Dev said. According to Google’s Turkish to English translator, It means great. I know. I’m hopeless, and such a nerd.

🗽 Tonight’s Bravo offering was The Real Housewives of New York City: Secrets Revealed. They’ve started to get a little better with these shows, experimenting with format, although there’s never anything particularly shocking or revealing. Leah talked about her rookie season being a roller coaster ride of emotions. We saw Ramona melting down over men, Dorinda being angry, and a lot of eating. Personally, now that the seasons of RHONY and RHOBH are over, I’m trying to stay away from the vanilla wafers. Dorinda and LuAnn had an egg-off, where LuAnn’s eggsà la Française competed against Dorinda’s scrambled then poached eggs. She explained how she makes this fluffiest-of-all egg concoctions, but she lost me halfway through. It was declared a tie, and Sonja informed us, nobody loses because everyone gets eggs. I could agree with that, although in her interview, Leah said she didn’t like either one, and preferred her own. She gave no recipe though. They did a segment with never before seen footage, and a multiple choice Guess What Happens Next? Nothing very telling or exciting, although it was interesting to see Sonja and Ramona – two grown women – hide under a restaurant table in Newport when they wanted to extract themselves from a conversation. We watched how the women keep in shape, and Leah and Sonja went to a workout that uses electroshock. I’ve seen this technique before, and I’m not so sure I’d do it. Sonja tried to sneak out, and it reminded me of the time I took a dance class with a friend who suddenly hurt their ankle – <making an I don’t think so face> – and left me to fumble along fend for myself. There were outtakes from interviews; interruptions, words mispronounced, and made up words. The women talked about their interview outfits throughout the seasons, and how their styles had changed. There were dating tips, but no advice you’d actually want to take.

Andy and Ramona walked through the set from the last reunion, and Andy pointed out artifacts from reunions past. We also saw clips from the moments he mentioned, like when Ramona walked off after Alex’s nude photos were brought up during the first reunion. Tinsley said the only redeeming factor of the reunion was getting to wear a big glamorous dress. She claimed she wouldn’t want to have an argument in jeans and a T-shirt, but she could do it in a ballgown. I laughed at the waiter at one of their lunches desperately trying to find out if they wanted still or sparkling water, while Dorinda prattled on about Ramona eating too many oysters, and saying Ramona was going to turn into a huge vagina. We saw other innocent bystanders as well, including Martini Mike, who apparently became an instant icon (see below). Dorinda told us, when they were in the groove, it didn’t matter what was going on around them.

All in all, the show wasn’t a bad thing to watch, but nothing new to see here. Except Martini Mike.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

🏥 As you already know, due to an MLB takeover, General Hospital wasn’t on today, and will return either Friday or Monday.

👁 Tonight Bravo give us Watch with Kelly and Shannon, where the women from RHOC watched the women on RHOBH. It was the episode where Brandi showed up at Dorit’s party, and the group went to see Erika in Chicago, minus Denise and Garcelle. Kelly and Shannon were surprisingly articulate and funny, and seemed to get along pretty well. One of my favorite moments was when Brandi showed up at the party wearing a furry pink jacket, and Kelly just kept repeating, What is Brandi wearing??? She also described Sutton’s dress as looking like she put her grandma’s doilies on it, which was pretty accurate. I still could see me dressing like Sutton in the 80s if I could have afforded it. How many of you are thinking, I watch TV with friends and make funny comments, and I don’t get a paycheck for it? Yeah, me too. Who knew it would end up being a thing.

🏖 She Needs Time Off…

After her daughter’s documentary This Is Paris came out, the only thing Kathy should be interested in is therapy. I think that lady has been stuffing a few emotions for some time. If you haven’t seen it, you can watch it for free on YouTube. It’s well worth watching. If you thought you knew Paris Hilton, you don’t.

Unless you’re one of the glitterati who got to spend it between your house in the Hamptons and your yacht docked at the Hamptons, I don’t imagine it’s been your favorite summer. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase comes home, and Brook says, back so soon from solving crimes? He says he’s taking a shower, then going back out. Brook is painting her toenails, and asks if he could get her some fresh coffee.

Ned sees Julian at the MetroCourt, and Julian asks what he can do for him. Ned says, not for him; for Julian’s son Leo. Leo is wondering when Julian’s next visit will be. Julian says, tell Leo, soon, and Ned says, that sounds vague. Doesn’t he normally schedule it with Olivia? Julian says he does; he’ll give her a call. Ned asks when was the last time Julian heard from Olivia? and Julian asks if she’s missing. Ned says, no, she’s in Geneva to visit Dante. Julian asks Ned to wish her luck, and tell her that he hopes it goes well. Ned says he can do that, or Julian could call. Julian says he’s not sure what’s going on, and doesn’t care, but if Ned wants to know how Olivia is, he should speak to her. Ned says, if only it was that simple, and Julian asks what he means. Ned tells him, never mind, and Julian says he’s as helpful as ever.

Sitting outside Kelly’s, TJ tells Molly, he forgot about Neil’s death. It was so sudden, it knocked everyone for a loop. She says, especially her mom; he died in her bed, and she didn’t even know he had a drug problem. She’s not going to be able to host their commitment ceremony. They’ll need a new venue. He says they might have to postpone it, and she says, it seems inevitable. Stella approaches and says, the problem with their generation is they give in too easy. If they want a ceremony, she’ll get the job done.

Lulu tells Nikolas, she could be wrong, but it sounds like he’s falling for his wife. His phone dings, and he sees the photo of him kissing Elizabeth. Underneath, it says, I know what you did, and he says, what the hell? She asks if it’s bad news, and he reads, Meet me at the docks ASAP. It’s going to cost you big.

Nina says, Ava is falling for Nikolas. Ava’s phone dings, and she sees the photo of her and Franco kissing. Underneath, it says, I know what you did. Nina asks if she’s okay. What did the message say? Ava reads, Meet me at the docks in an hour. It’s going to cost you big.

At a booth in The Floating Rib, Bobbie and Scotty sit with martinis, while Scotty concentrates on shelling nuts. Bobbie tells him, the hardest part is physically being away from the building. She knows details will be missed, or not taken care of as good as they could be. It’s not like the nurses won’t do their jobs without her, but they won’t do it as well. You’d think she’d enjoy her time off. She has ten different household projects she’s been dreaming about, but it doesn’t give her the same sense of fulfillment she had at GH. She sees he’s not paying attention, and says maybe she’ll go back to her old job of giving the girlfriend experience (i.e. – being a hooker). At least she’ll get companionship out of it. She says he hasn’t been listening to a word she said. He says she just told him she’s going back to her former profession, and she tells him that she was pushed to desperate measures. Tell her why he’s so preoccupied.

Sonny asks if Avery is okay, and she says she’s hungry. Sonny suggests they go get a snack. He sees the half-heart necklace on the ground, and picks it up. He says she dropped this, and she says it’s hers. He asks if mommy gave it to her, and she says she thought she’d keep it for good luck. He says, now what? It’s not good?

Carly tells Jax, she hopes anything incriminating stays gone, along with Nelle. Jason comes in, and she says she’s glad he’s there. Sonny is on the back patio talking to Avery about Mike, and Jax came to check on Josslyn. Jason asks how she’s doing, and Jax says she’s sad about Mike, but she’s doing okay. Carly says Josslyn is shopping for a homecoming dress as they speak. Jax says he and Carly will talk later. Just keep in mind what he said before. He says goodbye to Jason, and leaves. Carly tells Jason, she did something he’s not going to like.

Chase asks if Brook has given any more thought as to what she might do. She says, about what? and he says he has a one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment. She can’t be comfortable. She says she can see moving some furniture around to make more space, and he says, maybe there’s someone else she could stay with. She says he’s kicking her out, but he tells her that he didn’t say that. She says he strongly hinted, and in case he forgot, he invited her. Sorry for the inconvenience; she’ll go. He says he didn’t ask her to leave, but she says she doesn’t stay where she’s not wanted. That’s how she ended up there in the first place. He says he’s not kicking her out, but it was supposed to be temporary. They barely know one another. She says, aside from three arrests. He asks if there isn’t a close friend or family member she’d rather live with, and she says she’d rather live under a rock than crawl back to her family.

Julian asks how Brook is, and Ned says, her spirit is unbroken. Julian asks, how about her vocal chords? and Ned says she’s not using them to speak to him. Julian understands, and says he hopes it works out. For what it’s worth, he’s sorry Brook crossed paths with Nelle. Ned says they’re all sorry for the chaos Nelle left in her wake. Julian says, for sure; now she’s a fugitive on the run. Ned thinks it would be a good time to sever ties, and Julian says he plans on it.

Lulu asks Nikolas if it’s something about Spencer, but he says it’s just a business situation he needs to handle. She ask if he’s sure it’s not more about Ava than business. The way he’s acting, it seems like it. He says, a little bit of both, and tells her that they’ll talk later.

Ava says, you know that kiss she told Nina about? and shows Nina the picture. Somebody saw her, and she wonders how it happened. Nina says someone has been following her, but Ava says she was at the gallery. It’s not like she and Franco were making spectacles of themselves. No one was there. At least that’s what she thought. Nina says she was preoccupied with Franco, but Ava says, just for a moment. It wasn’t like her and Nikolas at the cabin.

TJ wonders how Stella manages to show up when she’s needed most. She’s like one of the Avengers; the psychic social worker. Stella says, too much flying. He says with Mike passing, he knows the family was grateful to her. She says she was glad to be there; Mike was a good man. She heard about their commitment ceremony, and Molly says she’ll let TJ fill Stella in, while she grabs a half ice tea, half lemonade. She knows it’s Stella’s favorite. Stella tells TJ to hang onto Molly.

Sonny tells Avery, he thinks the necklace is still good luck. Like how her grandpa is with her always in her heart. She says, but it’s only half, and he says, maybe the other half is out there somewhere. Even if it isn’t, it’s still pretty. He tells her, let’s get a snack, and they go inside.

Scotty tells Bobbie, for cryin’ out loud, he’s not preoccupied; calm down. He’s just thinking about the payoff she’ll get from the hospital for wrongful termination. Bobbie says she doesn’t want a payoff; she wants her job back. But it’s not going to happen as long as Cyrus is Chairman of the Board. Scotty says, okay then, find another job. Bobbie says she had some interest from Mercy, but he laughs and says, that rusty old hospital? The future is in telemedicine. A start-up company would love an experienced nurse. She can get in on the bottom floor, get equity, and when it becomes an IPO, the sky’s the limit. She says, it’s something to explore, and Scotty’s phone dings. He says, ugh. He has to work.

Jason asks Carly if what she needs to tell him is time sensitive. Does he need to do something? She says, no; it already happened. She’s doing potential damage control. He asks if it involves Jax, and she says it does. He says, and Jax doesn’t want him to know? She says Jax doesn’t want him or Sonny to know.

Brook tells Chase to go ahead and call her dramatic, and he says, isn’t she? She asks if it isn’t the ultimate betrayal, being abandoned by her family. They threw her into the street. He says he saw her dad’s face outside her hospital room, and Monica and Michael’s. No family is perfect, but it’s clear her family loves her and wants to help. She says she knows they love her. Staying there isn’t about what they did to her, but what she did to them.

TJ sees Stella looking at him, and says, what? and Stella says she’s just checking his beautiful face. When Curtis said he’d been beaten, it nearly killed her. How is he doing, really? He says, a few more PT sessions, and he’ll be good as new. She says she was sure he was off licking his wounds after Molly turned down his proposal, but that wasn’t the case. No one expected him to be abducted, least of all him. A person doesn’t go through hell and not carry some of it back with them. How is he really? The truth.

Carly says she knows what Jason is thinking. She didn’t sleep with Jax. He says he didn’t think so, but what’s going on? The doorbell rings, and she tells him, wait. He says he’s not going anywhere. It’s Lulu, and Carly invites her in. Carly says she’s sorry. She’s been meaning to call and thank Lulu and her mother for the donation to Alzheimer’s research. It was generous of them. Lulu says she was thinking about how Mike lent a sympathetic ear when she was a teen. Sonny joins them, and Lulu says she wanted to tell him how sorry she was, and see how he’s doing. He says Mike’s passing was peaceful, but he couldn’t have done it without the support of the family. She says she’s sorry Dante wasn’t there. She knows he’d love the chance to be supportive as well.

Nina wonders if Nikolas took the picture, but Ava says he went to the cabin to catch her cheating. There would have been no point if he’d taken it. And there was nothing going on with her and Franco, contrary to the proof. She asks how she could be so sloppy, and Nina asks what she’s going to do. Ava says they want big money, but she doesn’t have that yet. It could put her fidelity in question, and it’s the ammunition Nikolas needs to divorce her without her getting a dime.

Nikolas goes to the pier, and says, whatever Ava paid to get them to take the picture, he’ll pay much more. He looks up the stairs and says, you’ve got to be kidding.

Brook tells Chase, believe it or not, she gets why her dad threw her out. From his perspective, she betrayed the family when she sold her stock; never mind the other Quartermaines who did. She should have known better, and should have said something. That’s on her. Chase says, none of that mattered when she was fighting for her life and almost died. She asks if he thinks bygones should be bygones. If she didn’t have the power now, her dad wouldn’t be begging her to come home. He traded anger for pity. He’s not sorry; he feels sorry for her. It’s the one thing she can’t bear to live with. She tells Chase, it’s his space, and he wants her gone, and she will be, but she’s not going home. Chase’s phone rings, and he asks if they’re sure. He’s on his way. Brook asks if it’s a killing spree, a bank robbery, or another one of Lulu’s epic pouts. He says he understands where she’s coming from, but he thinks she’s underestimating her family. She can stay there as long as she needs to. He opens the door, and Ned is there. He says he understands his daughter is there, and Chase says, she’s all his. He leaves, and Ned comes in. He says, Brook, sweetheart, we need to talk. She says, we absolutely do not.

TJ asks if Stella can’t just enjoy the visit, and not have to use her social worker superpowers on him. She tells him, start talking, and he says, yes. The abduction was terrifying and painful; all of it. He doesn’t know who they were or what they wanted. The police have no leads, and all he can do is focus on his career and his life with Molly. She says she wants what’s best for him, and wants him to grab what he can from life, but there are no shortcuts to healing. He says he wakes up from the nightmares, and feels like he’s still tied up. He doesn’t know if he’s going to live or die. The thing that got him through it was thinking of Molly, and knowing she was waiting. Molly listens from the doorway.

Nina asks if Ava has any idea who would blackmail her like that. Ava says, in general, she can think of plenty of people, but this? No one who would care. It’s not like Nikolas has a lot of people rooting for him. Nina says, maybe Nikolas hired a P.I., and Ava says, maybe a P.I. wants to shake her down. Even if she’s right, that doesn’t solve the problem of the picture. Whoever took it has proof of her indiscretion with Franco, and she has to decide what to do about it.

Nikolas tells the mystery person that he’s not handing over that kind of money. He needs 24 hours. If they do anything with the photo before then, they’re done.

On the patio, Lulu and Sonny look at pictures. Lulu says, Mike with Ruby, were they a thing? Sonny says his dad only wished. She was immune to Mike’s flirting. Lulu says, she must have had an iron will. She doesn’t know how Ruby resisted his charms. Sonny says, Mike was everyone confidant and friend. Everyone adored Mike, except him.

Carly says she’ll tell Jason what happened, and he can tell her what he thinks. Something serious happened. Jason says, and Jax knows, and doesn’t want her to tell Sonny. She says she couldn’t, and she doesn’t feel she can tell him now. I tell her, well, for God’s sake, tell Jason before he has apoplexy. He looks like his head is going to explode.

Molly tells Stella, you’d think a dining room table is the last thing they’d need, but you’d be wrong. They’re students, and spend half their lives there. TJ’s phone rings, and he steps away to take the call. Stella says she’s glad she and Molly can spend some time alone. So much has happened. How is Molly holding up? Molly says, okay. TJ was the worst of it. Stella says, Lord knows it must have gone through her mind that TJ walked out on their commitment, especially after she refused his proposal. Molly says, he wasn’t taking her calls, and Jordan told her that he didn’t want to talk to her; that she should be responsible for her own actions. She got more and more desperate, until she finally… Stella says, what? but Molly says she doesn’t want to say. Stella says she thinks she understands. She’ll say it for Molly. She finally lost faith in TJ.

Ava says she’ll tell Nina one thing, she’s not losing her claim for one picture of her and Franco. She gets up, and Nina says she’s not thinking of going by herself? Why don’t she and Jax go with her? Ava says she can handle it, and jets. Jax comes over, and asks, what’s going on with Ava? Does he want to know? Nina says, no. It’s just a reminder of how glad she is to have a relationship with him. No games and no secrets.

Carly tells Jason, Sonny just lost Mike. Like he doesn’t know. She says, he needs time to grieve. She can’t put it on him unless Jason thinks she should. He says, obviously she’s trying to protect Sonny, and she says, that’s all she’s doing. She just wants to protect Sonny.

Sonny tells Lulu, he held on to so much anger, and couldn’t let it go. She says, he had a right to his anger. However wonderful Mike was to the rest of them, he left Sonny when he was a little boy. She wouldn’t want that for Rocco, hating Dante. It’s not the same struggle, but Sonny made peace with Mike’s gambling being a disease. Once he understood that, is when he started to forgive. It happened the way it was supposed to.

Bobbie signs the receipt, and Scotty returns to the table. He says his clients think his time has no value. Where were they? She says, nowhere, and he asks if she’s mad. She says she’s mad and disappointed. Scotty says she’s right, and he’ll make it up to her, but she says she’s not mad and disappointed at him. He suggests they enjoy their cocktails then. She says he’s being who he is – himself, a self-absorbed schemer. He has good intentions, but a terrible follow-through. He says, that’s harsh, and she says she adores him. He’s the sweetest guy when he gets out of his own way, which is never. He’s a good friend, but a lousy boyfriend. The person she’s mad and disappointed at is herself, for going down the same road again, knowing how it ends again. What scares her is one day she’ll lose his friendship, and it will break her heart. For both their sakes, she’s calling it quits. Aww.

Ava waits for the elevator, and Nikolas comes out of it. She says he’s not following her or having her followed, is he? He says he didn’t know where she was. She says she hopes not. They both saw how his jealousy ended last night. He says he thinks they need to talk – about us.

Brook asks Ned if something is the matter, and he says, it’s a nice apartment… She says, but… and he says this can’t be how she wants to live, sleeping on a couch in someone else’s living room. She says, you don’t know until you’ve tried it, and he says doesn’t she want to go home? They can work through their issues. She says, why do that? and he says she’s been through a trauma. Not just the attack, but how he treated her, his daughter. She’ll always be his daughter, and he wants to take care of her. She says, that never works out. No matter how good the intentions, they inevitably disappear. They get angry, and end up hurting each other, like they always do. He says, it doesn’t have to be that way. They can be better. She says, even if that’s true, it’s not a good time to try it. Doesn’t he have a big enough mess to clean up?

Scotty says, don’t do this, but Bobbie says, it’s already done. He says they can undo it. They can talk about anything she wants. She thanks him for teaching her a valuable lesson. The next time she has a setback, she’ll face it, and not fall back on a sort of romance to feel safe. It’s good – he makes her laugh a lot – until she finds out he’s cheating. He says he doesn’t always, and she says he can’t if they’re not together. Good luck with his client. He thanks her for the drink, and she says she put it on his tab. He looks at the tab, and does a spit-take, and Bobbie says, the next time they meet for drinks as friends, he’ll know not to keep her hanging.

Stella says, how would Molly know? It’s not like she’s had experience. She never had a serious relationship other than TJ, and no history with other men. She’s not trying to embarrass Molly; she’s putting herself in Molly’s shoes. She might have questioned the relationship, if she’d thought he walked out after their first disagreement. Molly says, Stella doesn’t blame her? and Stella says, for doubting? If Molly had said she never wavered, Stella would have known Molly was lying to her and herself. She’s glad she’s come to know and love Molly. It’s no sin to doubt. Better to doubt than to deceive.

Ava tells Nikolas, they should stick to the plan. They’ll rendezvous at Windymere, and see what happens. She gets in the elevator.

Nina asks Jax how Josslyn is, and he says, okay. She’s sad about Mike, of course (🍷), but she’s carrying on. He felt it had less to do with that, than a lesson of the heart. Sometimes he just has to listen. Nina says, do her a favor, and share some of his parental wisdom. She wants to be that kind of a parent if she finds her child one day.

Lulu says, when Mike was diagnosed, Sonny brought Mike home to live with him. Think of what’s happened in the two and a half years Mike has been there. Sonny recreated Luke’s Club; it was a gift. Even though Mike’s memory was fading he could feel it in his heart. Sonny never failed be present. All Mike wanted was to find his way back to Sonny, and Sonny gave that to him. He gave Mike the one thing that made him happy – a family.

Carly says she wants to tell Sonny, and Jason says, do what she needs, but it’s not fair. She should give Sonny a chance to be there for her. She’d hate if Sonny did that to her. She says he’s right. She needs to tell him. She needs to tell them both.

Ned says Brook can’t expect him to walk away, and leave things the way they are. She says, why not? She’s still the same daughter, and it’s not enough for him. He could give her all the I’m sorries in the world right now. He says it’s not too late, and she tells him not to hold his breath. He says there’s unfinished business between them. Fighting with his daughter, another Quartermain trait they’d be better off without. She says, it’s a shame that’s who they are.

Lulu and Sonny come in, and Lulu says Jason should have seen the pictures her mom sent. There’s one of Jason and Mike, when Jason was a valet at the club. Carly says she’d like to see that. Sonny says he’ll walk Lulu out. At the door, he says her mom did a world of good, sending the pictures. She thanks him for sharing them with her. She’s keeping him in her prayers, and Mike too. I don’t think Mike looked like he needed prayers when he went off with Courtney, but okay; it’s nice of Lulu. Sonny thanks her, and goes back to join Carly and Jason. He says, what? and Carly says, something happened and she needs to tell them both. Jason’s phone rings, and he says, it could be important.

TJ comes back, and Stella says Molly was giving her pearls of wisdom on their not-married commitment ceremony. TJ says, all that matters is he’s sharing his life with Molly. He hopes Stella isn’t disappointed. She says, two of her favorite people, vowing to cherish and love each other; it’s icing on the cake. There will be cake, right?

Ava goes to the pier, and says, all right she’s there. Where are they? She feels someone behind her, and turns around, pointing a gun at them.

Nikolas looks at the picture of him and Elizabeth. He deletes it.

Jax says he doesn’t know how big Mike’s funeral might be. He’ll ask Carly if he should go. Nina asks if he thinks Nelle might show up. Forget she said that. Nelle is probably halfway across the country by now. Has Carly heard anything from the police; do they have any leads? He says, no more than he does, and he doesn’t know any more

Jason thanks the caller. He tells Sonny, it’s an update from their guy at the PCPD. They can confirm Nelle is dead. They’ve found the body.

Tomorrow, Chase tells Jason that he’s come on police business, Willow asks Sasha if she’s still in love with Michael, Ava asks if she’s being blackmailed, and Carly says she didn’t lie; she just didn’t tell them everything.

💎 Shortest RHOBH Recap Yet…

Even though Kyle said, the Secrets Revealed show was, the sh*t you thought you got away with, there were neither any secrets nor any revelations. Except for one. I finally found out that Dorit’s Gucci ice cubes were ice cubes shaped like the Gucci logo. As I’ve said, it’s either nice, peaceful stuff that didn’t make the cut since it was too low-key, or stuff that was a real snooze.

There were some nice moments between Garcelle and Denise, where they talked about acting and family life. We saw a little more of their NYC trip, and Erika told us, New York City in the 80s is where it was at. We agree on this. However, when getting a hot dog, not one of them knew what sauerkraut was. Since Teddi is supposed to know about nutrition (see more on that in links below), I’m surprised she doesn’t know it’s fermented cabbage. And WTF? A Nathan’s hot dog without sauerkraut from the hot dog cart? Go back to Beverly Hills, the lot of you. There was also ax throwing and drinking canned wine at a dive bar. In her interview, Denise remarked that the women were a little out of place. Okay, Denise can stay.

Kyle told us that she wants Farrah engaged to boyfriend Alex asap, because she wants to be a young grandmother. Her mom had five grandchildren by her age. In one of the things I would have liked to see during the season, Kyle had discovered a picture online of a women wearing one of the rings she’d had stolen. (Some time back, there was a break-in at Kyle’s house, where all her bags and jewelry were taken.) She and Teddi played amateur detective, and went on a hunt to find the woman, who was a psychic with very distinctive nails.

Garcelle’s new house just missed the fires, and she managed to move in before quarantine.

The secret behind Bravo, Bravo, Bravo – which is no secret if you’ve watched Bravo, Bravo, Bravo for any length of time, time, time – was that if the phrase was said, the footage wouldn’t be aired. Apparently, this information came from Kyle, who said, it was a misunderstanding of an old joke. LisaR, who couldn’t stand being left out, said the information probably came from her.

In another scene I would have liked to have seen, we attended Sutton’s 48th birthday party, where the cake was displayed inside a giant birdcage adorned with flowers. It was also on a swing, which Sutton sat on after the cake was removed. I think. She was a bit tipsy. Jennifer Tilly was a guest, and we found out that instead of a tiara that year, Dolce and Gabbana sent Sutton a toaster. TBH, it was a pretty cool toaster.

They ended the show with a clip from the reunion, where Sutton said, quarantine was so bad, she’d go to Rome with them again tomorrow.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ned brings Alexis to the hospital, and Portia asks what she can do for them. Alexis says she can reassure Ned there’s nothing wrong with her. Portia says she’ll need a few more details, and Alexis says she fell at the gym and aggravated an old injury. Ned says it was weeks ago, and Alexis is still in pain. Portia says she can examine Alexis and Ned can come if Alexis is okay with it. Alexis says she wants Ned to be there when Portia tells her there’s nothing wrong.

Outside Kelly’s, TJ tells Brando he’s being too hard on himself. He just got out of the hospital, maybe it was too early for him to get out on the field. Brando says, from now on, they stick to basketball, and TJ says he should have said that earlier. Moving forward, they’ll stick to the court. Molly sees them together and looks horrified.

New York City. Nina asks Jax, how is it this woman who paid to have her necklace divided became her nurse twenty years later? He says, it would be quite the coincidence, and she says, there has to be a connection. She knows what happened to Nina’s child.

Josslyn tells Jason, it might sound crazy, but she wanted to feel her lungs fill up with air. He says it doesn’t sound crazy, and she wonders how long it’s been since Mike ran until he was out of breath. Little by little, everything was taken away from him until there was nothing left. She cries, and says she doesn’t even know what she’s saying anymore. He was a great grandpa. She’s going to miss him. Jason says he’ll miss Mike too, and she says Mike dies, and all she wants is to feel alive. He says, that’s what Mike would have wanted. Mike made some big mistakes, but he lived his life. He didn’t stand on the sidelines, watching and criticizing. Mike made sure he lived. He took chances and had to live with the consequences. There are people who run the race, and people who stand by and do nothing but watch. He knows she’s going to be someone who runs the race. She’s won’t know who’s going to win, but those are lessons she’ll learn. She’s going to live her life to the fullest, and it’s all Mike would have asked for.

Sonny looks at the picture of the boy on the bike, and shows it to Carly, asking if she saw this picture that Avery drew. His dad loved it, and said it looked like Sonny when he was a kid, but he doesn’t think it looks like him. They laugh, and Sonny says his dad never gave him the bike he wanted when he was a kid. He nursed that broken promise for years, and thought it was proof Mike wasn’t a good father. He didn’t know it haunted Mike. Even when his mind was gone, he needed to get Sonny the bike, and keep his word. Carly says Mike knew Sonny loved him, and Sonny says he knows. He asks if she can imagine them riding bikes together after all these years. The laugh some more, and Sonny says, it hurts.

Winston tells Ethan and Robert to keep their hands where he can see them. He says, this must be Ethan Lovett. He was afraid the calvary would come riding to the rescue when Holly placed the call. Robert says Winston knew Holly was alive.

Winston says, he takes their lack of professional detachment to mean there’s a personal interest. Robert calls Winston a smarmy bastard, and says, tell him where Holly is, or he’ll rip Winton’s throat out with his bare hands. Winston says Robert showed up for a gunfight with no gun, and tells his henchmen to restrain them, without shooting if possible. He tells Robert, Holly was investigating their less than reputable businesses that were being run from the casino. When he learned of her interest, he arranged for her ship to sink, but brought her there to manage her. They wanted to know just how much the Bureau had. Ethan tells him to take them to Holly, but Winston says she managed to distract a guard, and appropriate his phone. By the time they knew what was going on, it was too late. Robert says he knew it was her voice. Where is she? Winston says she had to be dealt with, and Robert asks what that means. Winston says, he’ll demonstrate. He raises his gun, but Olivia comes up behind him, and hits him over the head with an automatic weapon that she got from who knows where.

Nikolas tells Ava, he squandered his son’s chance at being close with this grandfather, and having a connection to his own mother. Mike knew Courtney better than he did; the things could Mike could have shared. It goes to show how messed up his priorities are. Ava says they’ve all been there, but he says, not as much as he has. The truth is, he keeps making the same mistakes. He doesn’t see how valuable something is until he lets it go.

Chase brings Brook to Turning Woods, and Brook thanks Michael for letting her know. She asks if Sonny is in Mike’s room, and Michael says he is, so she goes to  find him. Chase tells Michael that he gave Brook a ride. He’s sorry about Mike. Michael thanks him for bringing Brook. He thinks it will do his dad good to see her. He knows she had a big fight with Ned, and she’s too prideful to accept help. He’s worried about her being by herself. She didn’t say anything about a plan, and he wonders if she has a place to stay. Chase says he thinks she’s going to crash with him.

Nina tells Jax, after all the years of unanswered questions, she has an actual fact. He tells her, be prepared; she might not like what Phyllis has to say. She says she knows, and thanks him. Because of his connections, she’s closer than ever before to knowing what happened to her child. It would mean the world to her. He says he’d give her the world if he could, and she says she knows he would.

Molly joins TJ and Brando, and TJ says he believes Molly is a couple of minutes late; she’s obnoxious about being on time. Brando says he’s guilty of it too; it was drilled into him in the military. Molly says she didn’t know Brando was joining them, and TJ says they’re having a drink after their game. He’s buying; a consolation prize for beating Brando in all 8 innings. Brando asks if they don’t have plans, and Molly says, just studying medicine and law. TJ says they can take one night off, but Molly says, maybe Brando has someplace to be.

Portia presses on Alexis’s wrist, and asks if it hurts. Alexis says, ow! and Portia says, it’s definitely swollen. It might be more than a sprain. Ned says Alexis got an injury last summer, and Alexis says she thinks Portia was speaking to her. He says, sorry, and she says she slipped on the porch steps, and when she tried to steady herself, jammed her wrist. It ached for a week or two, then it felt better, until she fell at the gym. Portia asks if there was any weakness, and Alexis says, some in between incidents. Portia asks if it was continuous, and Alexis says not that she can recall. Portia asks, what about this time? and Alexis says this time, it’s been aching since she fell at the gym. She’s left-handed, and trying not do things with her left hand, and icing it. Portia asks if she’s done anything besides icing it, and Alexis says, nothing stronger than taking over the counter medication. She’s a recovering addict, and also highly sensitive after Neil’s death. Portia says she can prescribe a non-narcotic pain medication. They can take x-rays, and take it from there. She’s sorry to hear about Neil. She didn’t work with him very long, but he was a good man. Portia leaves, and Ned says, it’s okay to cry. He won’t judge.

Olivia says, a little help here? and Robert and Ethan deck the guards. Robert takes the gun from Olivia, and Ethan punches a guard one more time, saying, that one was for his mother. Robert gets on the phone, and says, it’s former field agent Robert Scorpio, and he’d like a direct line to the field office for District 3. He has a prisoner of interest.

Alexis cries, and says, the last place she expected to be was an examining room. Ned says he’s sorry, and suggests she get checked out; not just her wrist, everything. She says Neil was only in her life for two years, but changed it so much. He got her to dig inside for answers, and believe she’s worth being loved without conditions, secrets, or pain. If she hadn’t met him, she wouldn’t have risked her career for happiness. Now he’s just gone, and she’s in there getting a check-up for her aching wrist, like it’s any other day. Life just goes on, but it doesn’t. It’s not fair. Ned holds her, and says he’s so sorry.

Molly says Brando doesn’t want to hang out with a couple of studyholics. He might have someone to see. TJ says, the ladies are probably lining up, but Brando says he’s going through a dry spell. TJ says Molly can hook him up with one of her friends from law school. Ashley and CJ are smart and fun. Molly says she’ll see what she can do, and TJ says he’ll grab some ice teas, and Molly can arrange something with her friends. Molly says, no pressure, and TJ goes inside Kelly’s. She says TJ and Brando are bonding all over the place, and Brando says TJ is a good guy, but he’ll start making himself scarce.

Ava comes running in, and tells Nikolas, Avery is gone. The sliding door was open, and she’s gone. He says, she couldn’t have gone far.

Looking in the phone directory, Nina says she told Jax that she just wanted a trail to follow, and this is it. The woman she remembered, and will recognize when she sees, but she still has to find her. Who knew there were so many Phillis Caulfield in NYC? He says, there’s more than one? and she says, a lot more. Jax gets a call from Josslyn, and asks if everything is okay. Josslyn says, actually, no, and he says, Mike? Josslyn says, he’s gone. She knows it’s a good thing. It was time, and he doesn’t have to suffer now, but she just wanted to call and hear his voice, and know he’s still there to talk to. He says, always.

Sonny thanks Brook for everything she did for his dad. When she would visit and sing, Mike lit up like a kid. She says she’s glad Mike liked her singing and company, but the person he lit up for was Sonny. He loved Sonny so much, and Sonny was with him to the end. He did good. So, so good.

Avery walks through the woods with a flashlight.

Molly says, so Brando is just going to take off and leave her to explain? He says, isn’t that what she wants? She says she’s asking him not to be rude. When TJ challenges him to a basketball game or whatever, he can be busy. He tells her not to worry; he’s not getting in her business. She says she and TJ are in a great place; she’s not worried. There’s not going to be a repeat them. He says, no offense, but he’s not looking for one. She says, no offense, but she’s clear about what she wants in life, and it’s TJ. He says he likes hanging out with TJ; he’s a cool guy. TJ likes hanging out with him and wants to be friends, but he doesn’t lie to friends. She says neither does she, and he says maybe they should tell TJ the truth.

Ned waits in the hallway, and Portia says she wanted to give Alexis privacy, since Ned isn’t a family member. The orthopedic specialist confirmed it’s a fracture, which explains her limited movement and pain. Alexis says it’s not like when she fell in the spring, and it healed on its own. Portia says women lose bone density rapidly after menopause, and can get a fracture easily. They’re going to put her wrist in a cast. They stay on six to eight weeks, sometimes longer, but that only addresses the immediate injury. She suggests Alexis consult with the specialist, and have more tests to see if bone loss is the reason for the break. A fall shouldn’t result in a fracture, and there could be an underlying condition.

Jax tells Josslyn that he’ll be home first thing in the morning. In between, if she needs to, what should she do? She says, call him, and he says, that’s right. He loves her. She says she loves him too.

Avery finds Nelle’s half of the heart necklace, and hears Ava calling to her. Avery says, ooh, pretty. Ava calls again, and she says, coming, mom.

A WSB agent tells Robert his people are doing a sweep of the casino. There’s a laundry list of illegal activities there, enough to put Winston and his cronies in Steinmaur until they’re old and grey. Ethan asks if they found his mother, but the agent says, there’s no sign of Holly. She’s not there, if she ever was. Robert grabs Winston by his lapels, picks him up and shoves him against the wall, saying, you bastard, where is she?

Josslyn says, it must be strange for Willow. She joined the family five minutes ago, then has to jump into this experience. Willow says it’s sad, and she’s sorry about their grandfather, but what she’s experiencing is really how close they are, and how much they love each other. She was never part of a family in that way. To see them help sustain each other makes her more grateful than before.

Winston says, Holly is gone, and Robert says, son of a bitch. The agent says, let him go, and Robert drops him. Robert says, he’s lying, but the agent says it’s out of Robert’s hands. The Bureau is taking over. Ethan says, hell, the Bureau sent her there, and kicks Winston, asking, where is my mother? Winston says, gone. Disparue. What’s Mandarin for gone? The agent tells Ethan, don’t make them arrest him. They’ll search the grounds. The WSB is grateful for their help, so they avoided running Ethan’s name and finding out he has outstanding warrants. He’d like to see Ethan walk out a free man, so don’t kick Winston again. He tells another agent to help him load the prisoner for transport, and they take Winston out. Ethan says, Winston is lying. He has to be.

Molly says she thinks about telling TJ every day, and Brando says he thinks if she tells him the actual reason – that she thought he was ghosting her – he’ll realize there’s nothing to forgive. She says, except for keeping the truth from him. He says he’ll keep his distance, and she says she doesn’t want that; obviously TJ doesn’t want that. He says TJ can’t force him to shoot hoops; he has a garage to run. And if she keeps driving her hybrid like a tank, she’s going to severely damage it. TJ comes back with the drinks, and says, sorry. He was phoning a guy in his study group. He asks if Molly gave Brando contact with CJ and Ashley.

Willow asks if Michael is going to wait for his parents, but he says he thinks his dad would like to be alone with his mom for a bit. He and Willow leave.

Carly tells Sonny that she spoke with administration, and he can have all the time he wants with Mike. Sonny asks if they’re ready to take him, and she says if he’s ready. He says, let’s do this. He goes over to Mike, and picks up the drawing. He says he got his bicycle. He loves this bike; he loves this picture. And I’ll always love you, dad. He cries a little, and joins Carly.

Back at the cabin, Ava tells Avery, no more woods. Promise her. Avery promises.

Portia tells Alexis, a nurse practitioner will come in to cast her, and she can consult with the orthopedic specialist. They might be able to run more tests tonight. Alexis says, it’s kind of her to offer, but she’d like to get home. She’s dealing with a lot, and just wants to take a moment to catch her breath. She promises to make an appointment. Portia says, obviously, it’s her call, but she doesn’t advise putting it off, since any underlying condition needs to be addressed. Alexis asks what tests the specialist will want to run, and Portia says a big term that means bone density scan. Alexis asks what condition Portia thinks she has, and Portia says, the specialist will explain in depth. Alexis says the specialist isn’t there, Portia is. What does Portia thinks she’s dealing with? Portia says, based on her symptoms, Alexis might have osteoporosis.

Brando tells TJ, the garage needs his attention; he has no time for a social life. TJ says he’s said the same thing a million times. If not for Molly, he’d have no social life. Brando says, there’s only one Molly, but TJ says, her friends are really cool. What if the set up a meeting while supporting a righteous cause? They have a group who’s standing with GH. Brando says, against what? and Molly says, not what; who. Cyrus Renault, the Chairman of the Board.

Ethan tells Robert, the agent told them they have enough on Winston to send him to Steinmaur. They can use it as a bargaining chip, and trade Holly’s whereabouts for a lighter sentence. Robert says, Holly wasn’t an agent; she did contract work. They’re not going to bargain for her return. Ethan says, they have to. They said she was investigating the casino. She risked her life for the Bureau; they have to find her. The agent comes back, and says, they did find her. They found a shallow grave, containing a woman’s body burned beyond recognition. Ethan says, it could be anyone, and the agent says, they’ll find out when they do an autopsy, but the body matches Holly’s height and build. And they found this. He gives Robert something, and says, it was on the body. Ethan asks, what is it? and Robert shows him a ring.

We see Holly and Robert back when we were all so much younger. He says she should have a ring. He bought it a while back, and after tonight, he realized she might want it for appearances sake. He puts it in her hand, and she thanks him.

Robert tells Ethan, it’s Holly’s wedding ring.

Outside Turning Woods, a staff member says they have something for Sonny. It came several weeks ago, and they put it in the back for safe keeping. Sorry no one told him. They bring out a bicycle with a big bow on it, and my heart sings. Carly says, how… and he says, who cares? He hands her the picture, and opens the card. Sonny reads, Sonny, this is late, but I hope it’s not too late. I love you. Dad. She says, it’s a beauty, and he says, it’s perfect.

Nikolas asks Ava if Avery is all right, and she says, Avery is snug as a bug in a rug. She thanks him for helping her look, and being wonderful with her. She thinks he’s got himself a fan in her daughter. He says Ava must be relieved they found her. She’s quite an adventurous girl. He wonders where she gets it from. Ava asks if he’s leaving, and he says, yeah. He thinks there’s been enough excitement for one night. He asks if she’s returning to Windymere tomorrow, and she says she is. It’s her home. He tells her, goodnight, and she says, drive safe.

Jax says he hates to bail on Nina, but she says, is he out of his mind? Of course (🍷) he has to be with his daughter. This can wait. He says she could continue without him, and she says she could, but she wants him to be with her, no matter how it ends, if he wants to be. He says he does, and she asks if he’d mind company on the flight back. He says he’d love that. We see the necklace around her neck.

Avery takes the necklace out from under her pillow, and puts it in her backpack. She gets back in bed.

Brando says he understands why the hospital isn’t thrilled by Cyrus being on the board – Molly says, Chairman of the Boar – but maybe they could volunteer for another cause. TJ says, GH is the heart of Port Charles. They can’t let Cyrus corrupt it. He’s signing up staff members, and Molly is pulling some people from law school. Brando says, Cyrus could bring them a lot of trouble, and TJ says, let him bring it. The hospital is worth fighting for. Brando asks if Molly agrees, and she says she backs TJ all the way. Brando says, okay; he’s in. TJ says he knew it. Brando might be a sorry softball player, but he’s a man with principles. Brando hopes Molly’s friends are worth the trouble.

Alexis asks if osteoporosis isn’t common in women older than she is, but Portia says, that’s a misconception. Post-menopausal women over 50 are at risk. She can’t say for certain that’s it though, until the test results come back. Alexis says she’ll make arrangements. Ned pops in, and asks if everything is okay. Alexis says she’s waiting to get a cast, and tells him, go ahead and say it – I told you so. He says he’s just thankful she’s being treated. He tells her, he’ll wait outside, but Alexis says, they’d like to run more tests; it could take time. She’ll grab a Ride Share. He says, nice try. He’s not going anywhere. For once, stop arguing and say thank you. She says, thank you, and he says he’ll be outside.

Ned calls Olivia, and says, come on. Call him back.

Olivia gives Robert a drink, saying she thinks he could use this. Ethan says Holly was wearing the ring the last time he saw her. They met in Singapore to run game on a billionaire. Robert says he gave it to her when they got married. One thing after another happened, and it wound up in a safety deposit box in Switzerland. He gave it back to her after a two-year separation, saying, while they were separated, they were never going to be done with each other. He says he never should have given Ethan false hope that she was alive, but Ethan says now they know the truth, and who’s responsible. Robert says he should have gotten there sooner, and Olivia says he did what he could, but he says, it doesn’t feel like it. The agent comes in, and says the Bureau sent for a plane to take them home; it’s waiting on the tarmac in Nice. Robert wonders why the Bureau is so accommodating, and the agent says they’ve wanted the casino shut down, and now they were given a way to do it. Olivia says, as a girl from Kansas said, there’s no place like home. Robert asks Ethan if he’s going somewhere, and Ethan says, any continent but this one. When they leave, a man comes out and makes a call.

We see a woman’s hand pick a phone up. The man says, they’re gone. Scorpio and Ethan were given proof she’s dead. The casino was shut down, but the Bureau might be able to link the place to her. Winston knows to keep his mouth shut about what she really did with Holly. On one of the screens, we see a room with a woman sitting on the floor, leaning against a bed. She gets up, and starts yelling, open the door. Holly looks at the camera, and says, you bastard, let me out of here.

On Monday, Lulu asks Curtis what his fascination with her mother is; Curtis tells Jordan that she should have skipped this visit; and Jason tells Brando, he told Sonny they need a plan, but it will take both of them.

Maturity is achieved when a person accepts life as full of tension. – Joshua L. Liebman (Hmm… Apparently I’ve been mature since I was 5.)

I Call You Dog

Author Unknown

When God had made the earth and sky,

The flowers and the trees,

He then made all the animals,

The fish, the birds and bees.

And when at last He’d finished,

Not one was quite the same,

God said, “I’ll walk this earth of mine,

And give each one a name.”

And so He traveled far and wide,

And everywhere He went,

A little creature followed Him,

Until its strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth,

And in the sky and sea,

The little creature said, “Dear Lord,

There’s not one left for me.”

Kindly the Father said to him,

“I’ve left you to the end,

I’ve turned my own name back to front,

And called you DOG, my friend.”

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Dante wakes up, and says, dammit. Why did I do that?

At Kelly’s, Diane tells Alexis that she needs to eat something. She can’t begin to know what Alexis is going through. She was just starting to be with Neil, and then he was gone. She’s been with Alexis the whole time. Alexis says Diane thinks she’s going to relapse and drink again, doesn’t she?

Monte Carlo. Olivia asks if Robert had any luck, and he says he scoped out the location of the security office. If Holly is anywhere, that’s where she is. Olivia asks what he suggests they do next. They see Winston, and Robert says, continue to enjoy their romantic honeymoon.

Ned gets Olivia’s voicemail, and says it’s him again. He hasn’t heard from her or Robert for over a day, and he’s getting concerned. Please call.

At the bistro, Brook tells Chase that she doesn’t think ginger tea is the answer to her situation, but she thanks him. He asks what she thinks she’s going to do next. Is she still dead-set on not going back to the Quartermaines? She says, it’s a pity invite, and will never happen. BLQ doesn’t accept charity.

Josslyn says her grandpa will always be with her, and Michael says, him too. Brando says, and his buddies in Iraq, and Willow says, and her dad and baby. Stella says their loved ones didn’t vanish into darkness. They’re always with them and watching out for them.

Sonny says he doesn’t want Mike to think he wants him to die. He had so many dreams for them. We see Sonny and Mike with bicycles, and Mike asks how Sonny likes it. He bets Sonny thought he’d never buy him a bike, and Sonny says it surprised the hell out of him. Mike suggests putting on training wheels, and Sonny says, let’s see who needs training wheels, old man. Mike says they’ll see who the old man is. He’ll race Sonny to the end of the street. You know what they say. You never forget how to ride a bike.

Mike and Sonny come into the living room, and Mike wonders how Michael isn’t exhausted. Sonny says, he’s young. He can play catch with Wiley forever. Mike says he taught Sonny how to play catch, and Sonny says Mike has a pretty good arm; Wiley was impressed, and so was Michael. Mike says, someone has to show the young ones how do it. He does a pretend throw, and rubs his shoulder. Sonny says he’s still got it. He gave Michael and Wiley a great afternoon they’ll never forget. He wants to thank Mike.

Mike and Sonny walk into the living room wearing suits. Mike thanks Sonny for taking him to Adela’s grave – in his big, fancy private jet. Sonny says anytime Mike wants to visit her grave, just give him the word. Mike says, one time he told Sonny’s mom that Sonny could be anything he wanted to be, because he was going to bring Sonny the world. He didn’t do that. Sonny says, no, he didn’t. He gave Sonny love. He didn’t know it then, but he knows now. They clink glasses, and Mike says he doesn’t deserve Sonny. Sonny asks, why even say that? and they sit. Mike says Sonny has a beautiful family, and made him a part of it. It was good. He wishes he could tell Sonny’s mom how proud he is of him, and how sorry he is for not being there to watch him grow up. Sonny says, Mike still loves his mom, doesn’t he? and Mike says, always have, always will. Anyone who came after, never equaled her kindness and compassion. He told Adela that too. He only wishes he could have told her face to face, but maybe someday, somehow he’ll see her again. He’ll take her in his arms and spin her around, and they’ll dance. Sonny says, that day’s not coming for a long time, but she’ll be waiting. Mike says, you can’t live forever, can you? and Sonny says, no. He guesses not. Mike asks why he’s doing this. Why does Sonny keep remembering things that never happened between them? Sonny says he wants his father to give him more, and knows Mike can’t give him that. He doesn’t know why Mike keeps holding on. He knows Mike is hurting and ready. Why doesn’t he let go? Sonny is here for him, and he’s not going to do this alone… Unless that’s what Mike needs. Does he need Sonny not to be there, so that way he can go find peace? Mike says he’s out of answers. Answers like that are found within. Sonny has the strength to do that; more than Mike ever did. Look inside his heart, and he’ll know what to do.

At Turning Woods, Sonny says he’s looking. He sees it. Mike doesn’t want to go with him watching. He wants to protect Sonny. Sonny tells him, do what he’s got to do. Sonny cries a little, and tells Mike, do what he’s got to do. However he wants to go, however he wants to do it, it’s fine.

Alexis tells Diane, yes. She wanted a drink. Sobriety can be fickle when dealing with emotional distress. Diane asks, how fickle? and Alexis says she found out Neil was using under her nose, and she wanted a drink, but she stopped herself. She wasn’t succumbing to her addiction. It was bad enough to see Neil succumb to his. Ned comes in, and says he’s sorry to hear about Neil. He’s been meaning to reach out. Alexis thanks him, and says he’s had enough to deal with. She heard Brook was out of the hospital and on the mend. He must be relieved. Ned takes her hand, but Alexis draws back in pain.

Olivia says she’s always dreamed of driving in an Austin Martin in Monte Carlo. He says, she’s not going to get nervous, is she? She says, not with him driving. He lowers his voice and tells her, sorry to push the honeymoon, but Winston won’t take his eyes off them. She says he needs a diversion, and he asks what she suggests. She says, stick with her. She’s about to go on a hot streak. Winston won’t know what hit little his casino.

Sonny tells Mike he’s going to go. He’s saying goodbye to Mike, so Mike doesn’t have to say goodbye. He kisses Mike’s forehead. He takes a last look, stands at the door for a moment, and leaves.

Robert tells Olivia, for this to work, they have to stick with the plan. She says she was playing blackjack before she was old enough to vote. She sits at a table, and says, deal her in. Robert wanders around, and Olivia gets 21. She says, yeah; do it again. Leave it all on the table. A man comes to the table, and says, someone is feeling lucky, and she says, you bet she is. He says, maybe the lady’s luck will rub off on him. Deal him in.

Ava plays outside with Avery, and Nikolas says, there she is. Ava says, yes, she’s here. Avery had a bad dream, so they were catching fireflies. Nikolas tells Avery, he’d like to help if it’s all right with her mother, and Ava says, it’s more than okay.

Chase tells Brook, it isn’t charity letting her family help. It’s what families do. She says, some families, but not the Quartermaines. He says, Michael is a Quartermaine, and she says Ned was furious with her, and had a massive overreaction. She knows she messed up, and Ned was right to be mad, but she also knows he wouldn’t have retreated if Nelle hadn’t attacked her. He says, tragedies have a way of putting things into perspective. You realize how important it is to love a person, rather than whatever you thought was so crucial. Maybe Ned realized he loves more than the company, wants her as a daughter, and wants her to recover. She says he’s describing a normal, rational person. He can’t understand what ELQ means to the Quartermaines. Ned put it in perspective for 25 minutes when he thought she was going to die. That’s over now, and he just feels sorry for her, and she doesn’t want that. She’s fine on her own. He says, excellent. What does that look like? She says that’s the part she hasn’t figured out.

Stella says, when she came in, Brando was talking about butterflies. What did he mean? Sonny comes in, and Carly asks if he’s okay. He says, Mike is resting, and he’s fine. Michael asks if he needed a break, and Sonny says, just a short one. Jason says if Sonny wants anything, he’s there with them. Josslyn and Michael volunteer to go sit with Mike, but Sonny tells them to stay. Mike will be fine by himself. Josslyn asks how he knows, and Jason says, it’s okay. Sonny knows what he’s talking about.

A bright light falls on Mike. He opens his eyes, and says, I know you.

Sonny thanks everyone for coming, and says, it means a lot. Carly asks if he’s ready to go back, and he says, it’s probably time. He and Carly join hands, and go back to Mike’s room. Stella asks Brando to tell her more about his experience with butterflies. He says after learning about them in high school, he started seeing them as his buddies from his unit; a sign everything was okay. At least that’s what he wants to think. Stella says, then that’s what they are.

Alexis tells Nelle, she took a fall at the gym and jammed her wrist; it’s still tender. Diane says, that was weeks ago. She should see a doctor. Alexis says she has other things on her mind, but Diane says she can’t put it off. She’s getting checked out. Diane’s phone dings, and she says, lovely. A client demands her immediate attention. They’ll just have to wait. She’s a respected attorney, not Ride Share. They can’t summon her when they feel like it. Alexis says, for the retainer she charges, of course (🍷) they can. She says, Ned is there to assist her if she needs it, and Diane says she’ll call Alexis later. Diane leaves, and Ned asks if he can get anything for Alexis. Blueberry pie maybe? She says, it’s nice of him, but her speech was for Diane’s benefit. He doesn’t have to stay. He says he has nowhere else to be. He lost ELQ, and his wife and daughter aren’t speaking to him.

At the casino, the man says, Mrs. Falconari. She’s the last person he expected to see. She says, hello, Ethan. It’s Mrs. Quartermaine now. He should have been at his mother’s memorial. He asks, what brings her to the casino? and tells her the man who runs it isn’t someone she wants to cross. She says, too late, but she has back-up in Robert Scorpio. He says, Scorpio is here? and she says he’s convinced Ethan’s mom is alive, and being held prisoner there.

Robert walks down a hallway toward the office, and a guard asks if he can help Robert. Robert acts like he’s drunk, and says, restroom, and the guard says, it’s authorized personnel only. Robert acts confused, and says he guesses he got turned around. Sorry, man. He moves on.

Ethan says, Scorpio thinks his mother is alive? and Olivia says he got a call after the memorial. There was a lot of static, and a bad connection, but he swears it was Holly. He says, and she believes him? She says she does. The call was traced to this casino. She was creating a diversion while Robert checked out the security office. Ethan says, Robert wants Holly to be alive, so he can ride in and save her. She says she understands their relationship was complicated, but Robert never stopped loving her. If he thinks she’s alive, doesn’t Ethan think it’s worth hearing him out? Robert comes back, and tells Olivia, a guard is watching the door. They have to find another way in. He realizes Ethan is there, and Ethan punches Robert. Olivia catches him.

Carly says, Sonny has been so insistent on being with Mike to the very end. Why did he leave?

Mike sits up, and says he knows her. Courtney says, hello, dad, and asks him to come with her. She holds out her hand, and he gets up, putting on his sharp hat. Courtney takes his hand, and he says, it’s good to see you, sweetheart.

Sonny tells Carly, he took a break for his father, not for himself. They go into Mike’s room, and Mike and Courtney see them. Mike tells Sonny, he’s so sorry it was so hard on him. He deserved better than he got from Mike, but Sonny did right by him up until the end. He says, thank you for being my boy. Don’t think of him as the guy in the bed. Think of him as the father who came to his son for help. He takes Courtney’s hands, and a bright light shines down from above. They disappear. Carly says she doesn’t understand, but Sonny says she doesn’t have to. She says, everything Sonny has done, every decision he made, was exactly what his dad needed. Sonny says, dad? He listens to Mike’s heart, and Carly says, is he? Sonny says, he’s gone. That’s why he left the room. He knew Mike couldn’t say goodbye. Mike was trying to protect him. Carly nods, and says Sonny, he let go. His mom is waiting for Mike. It’s okay. She forgives him, and loves him very much. We see a butterfly floating around the room, and I’ve already lost it completely. Sonny says, there’s no more loss, no more sorrow. A big world is waiting for him out there. He’s finally coming home. Sonny puts his head against Mike’s. Carly says, safe passage Mike, and tells him that she loves him.

Ava says it’s time to get Avery back to bed, and tells her to say goodnight to Nikolas. Avery wants him to come, and he says he’d be delighted. Ava tells Avery, in that case, lead the way.

Alexis tells Ned that she’s not surprised there’s friction. Brook is a determined young woman. He says, right now, she’s determined to avoid him. She doubts that’s the case with Olivia, and he says, that situation is more nuanced, but at the moment he’s more concerned about her. He says he and Alexis haven’t caught up since she and Neil got together. She says, point of fact, they were barely together. Their feelings were complicated, but she felt a connection. She risked everything, threw caution to the winds, and lost her law license. She believed in Neil, and believed in the possibility of them, but the truth is, she didn’t know him. How could she not realize he was using drugs? Was he that good at hiding it, or was she being willfully blind, like with Julian, Ric, and all the other men? Present company excluded. He asks if she really believes that, and she says, yes. Neil was a good man, even though he had secrets. He suggests she take her coffee to go, and they take a walk in the park. She says, sounds like a plan, and he says he’ll meet her outside. He’s going to give Olivia one more call. He goes out, and she picks up her coffee cup, dropping it. She grabs her wrist.

Robert suggests Ethan try again when he can see it coming. Ethan says Robert ruined his mother’s life. The only reason she was on that damn boat was because he walked out on her. They lunge at each other, but Winston comes over, and says, gentlemen. They’re disturbing the guests, and ruining night. He tells his bouncers, take them in the back.

Carly joins the others, and says, he’s gone. She hugs Josslyn, and says her grandfather isn’t confused or afraid anymore. Josslyn asks how Carly knows, and Michael asks how Sonny is. Carly says, quiet. He’s sitting with Mike if Michael wants to say goodbye. Michael leaves, and Josslyn says she wants some fresh air. Carly asks if Josslyn wants her to come, but she says she just wants to be outside. Carly says she loves Josslyn, and Josslyn says she loves Carly too. Willow tells Carly, she’s going to call and check on Wiley. She’s so sorry for their loss. She hugs Carly, who thanks her. Jason asks if Carly is okay, and she says, she knows it’s what’s best for Mike, but she’s going to miss him so much. Jason hugs her.

Chase asks how Brook feels couch surfing. She says she needs more context, and he says if she has nowhere else to crash, she can stay with him. She asks if he’d really let her move in, and he says, while she’s figuring out the next step. She tells him that she doesn’t know what say, and he says, that’s a first. Brooks phone rings, and she says, it’s Michael; she has to take it. Michael tells her that Mike passed away a little while ago. He went peacefully, and wasn’t in pain. She says, he was an incredible man, and Michael says, he was. She asks how Sonny is doing, and Michael says, he’s okay. Luckily, he has a lot of support. She asks if it would be too much if she came, or does he think it would help? He says, that would be great. His dad would appreciate it. She tells him that she’s sorry for his loss. It put her so-called problems in perspective.

Carly tells Jason, the people they love, they just think they’ll be there forever, but they won’t. They have to love them with everything they’ve got, every minute they have them, and not get caught up in the stupid stuff their minds perceive as bright and shiny in life, and make that stuff more important. She admires Jason. He’s lived his life with that perspective, and doesn’t get distracted. She asks him to promise, if she spirals out of control and gets caught up in the BS of life, remind her please of what’s important. He says, like when he tells her to take a deep breath and count to ten? That’s just to calm her down. She’s always known what matters. He doesn’t always agree with her methods, but he doesn’t disagree with her heart. He came back in time to watch Mike slip away, and watch Sonny’s agony, and he watched her do the heavy lifting. She took care of everything, and gave selflessly. She has her priorities straight in life. She says he had her up until selfless. Everyone knows she’s the most selfish person on the planet. He says he knows better.

Robert and Ethan are sitting in chairs, tied up, back to back. Robert says Ethan’s little outburst just blew his cover. Ethan asks if Robert thinks he gives a damn. He punched Robert to get them back there. Robert says, a classic Spencer move. Ethan’s old man would be proud. Ethan tells Robert, Olivia said Holly called him, and he believes she’s alive. Robert says, it’s the only part of the accident that makes sense. Ethan says, Holly said his instincts were on point, and Robert says his instincts didn’t tell him they’d find themselves trussed up like this. Ethan says, Robert is a super spy. Get them out. Robert sees a nail sticking out of the floor, and says he thinks he has a plan.

Alexis apologizes to the waitress, saying she’s clumsy. The waitress says she’s got this, and Ned comes back in. He asks if everything is okay, and Alexis says she lost her grip on the cup. She must have been holding it wrong. He says, if it’s that painful, she should have it looked at. She says she’s embarrassed enough, and he tells her, she said it was hurting. She insists it’s nothing serious, but he says she can’t hold a cup. She says he’s making it sound worse than it is, but he says, there’s only one way to find out. He’s taking her to the hospital. She grabs her bag, and flounces out ahead of him.

Ava says, it looked like Nikolas enjoyed that, and he says he did. Not just the fireflies, and the bedtime story. He loved that, don’t get him wrong, but watching her with Avery, it’s nice seeing that side. She says he thinks she might actually be human? Her phone rings, and she sees it’s Carly. She asks if everything is okay, and Carly tells her, Mike is gone. She’s sure Avery is sleeping, but she wanted Ava to know. Ava says she’s so sorry. She appreciates Carly calling. Carly says, Sonny would like all of his kids together, and Ava says, of course (🍷). She’ll have Avery back first thing tomorrow. If it seems appropriate, offer her condolences to Sonny, and don’t worry about Avery; she’ll follow his lead. Carly says she’ll let Sonny know, and thanks her.

Michael tells Sonny, he’s so grateful he had Mike for a grandfather. Knowing him was a privilege Sonny gave him. Sonny says, a long time ago, all he could see was Mike’s failings. He knows now Mike was just trying to be a good dad. Actually that was most of the time. He tried to be a better father than Mike was. He doesn’t know if he managed it, but Michael will be a better father than either one of them. Michael says, everything he learned, he learned from watching them.

Winston tells Olivia, he hopes her evening wasn’t spoiled. He heard she had success at the blackjack table. She says she did, and she’s hoping for more, as soon as her husband and his friend return. He says, they didn’t look like friends, and she says, you know boys; macho chest thumping. She guarantees their good behavior form here on out. When can she expect them back? He says he’s sure it won’t be much longer.

Robert says, got it, and Ethan is freed. How he did this, we don’t get to know. Spy magic. He tells Ethan, get him out. He’s a prodigy of Spencer, and should be able to do it in less than 30 seconds. Ethan says, he just did, and Robert gets up. He says, okay, it’s time to find Ethan’s mommy. Winston walks in, and says, how clever. Going somewhere, Mr. Scorpio?

Tomorrow, Robert says now he knows Holly is alive, Nina says there has to be a connection, Brando says maybe he and Molly should tell the truth, Avery disappears, and Jason tells Josslyn it’s exactly what Mike would have wanted.

🎁 I’ve been so busy, I hadn’t even realized it was my father’s birthday yesterday. He’s been gone a long time, but I still miss him like he just passed. What a gift this storyline has been. So very sad, yet bringing such hope.

The Real Housewives of New York City – The Reunion – Part Two

We jump right in to the argument between Tinsley and Dorinda that started last week. Dorinda wonders why Tinsley signed up for the show, when they’re told they have to be transparent. Tinsley says she’s been real, but Dorinda says she and Sonja knew she was still seeing Scott. Dorinda whines that she was going through a bad time, and Ramona says Dorinda never shared. We see an article from Page Six about Dorinda taking a break from John. Dorinda says she was going through the house flood, a broken rib, and trying to figure out if she wanted to be in a relationship. Her good friend Greg planted the Page Six article. She may not have been forthright, but she wasn’t dishonest – her segue into griping about Tinsley, while absolving herself of the same thing. She says Tinsley claimed she wasn’t seeing Scott, but they knew she’d had dinner with him, and was with him in Las Vegas. LuAnn asks how she knew all this, and a viewer points out that while good friends don’t bully, good friends don’t watch and stay silent. Andy asks why not defend her? and Sonja says Tinsley played the victim, but she just sucked it up. Ramona says when Tinsley is on roll, there’s no stopping her, but Dorinda says, with her it’s different. Tinsley says Dorinda deflects, and Dorinda says Tinsley was living in a hotel, like this means anything. Andy says Dorinda was mean to Tinsley, but Dorinda says she apologized. Tinsley claims she didn’t, and the turkey baster remark was appalling. Andy chimes in that it was pretty bad, and Dorinda says she wants Tinsley to live well, be well, and be happy. In retrospect, she feels she should have handled it differently, and she’s sorry. Tinsley says, too little too late. LuAnn says she’s happy for Tinsley, and Andy asks what Leah’s thoughts are about her best friend. Leah says she was new, and trying to forge relationships with the women. She has close relationships with both Dorinda and Tinsley, and they were the two going at it. She wanted to do a lunch with the three of them. We see a clip of her suggesting it, and Tinsley saying she’s not too sure it would be a good idea. Leah says they didn’t do it, and Tinsley says Dorinda comes off as strong and a tough guy bully, but she’s a coward. She can’t do one on one, and needs her cronies to stand up for her. Leah says she’s not a crony; she just wants to help. Tinsley says it was fine having a conversation with Dorinda off-camera, but Dorinda turned on her when Scott gave John money. A viewer points out that Dorinda said Scott was able to give Tinsley the things Richard used to give to her, and wonders if Dorinda is jealous. Dorinda says she doesn’t want that kind relationship; giving up her life to be dependent. Tinsley says, now Dorinda is the authority on her relationship with Scott. Dorinda’s Achille’s heel is that she’s never wrong, and it’s going to be her end and detriment. She needs to be accountable.

Andy asks why Dorinda got so mad in the finale, the second Tinsley’s name was brought up. We flash back to Dorinda going ballistic when Leah mentioned Tinsley. Leah hadn’t even finished her sentence, when Dorinda was all, I WON’T HAVE IT! SHE BREACHED HER CONTRACT! and put her finger in everybody’s face. Dorinda says, it wasn’t authentic. Tinsley didn’t bring Leah to the group. If they were paying a finder’s fee, Bethenny would have gotten it. Like Dorinda gives a flying. Ramona says, Bethenny didn’t even know Leah, and Andy says she gave them 30 names, and Leah was on the list, but they also got her name form the casting producer. Then he asks the question on all out minds – what does it matter? Who cares? Dorinda says, at the end of the day, Leah was implying Tinsley brought her into the group, and it’s not true. I think what Leah actually said, and it wasn’t even the point she was making, was that Tinsley had introduced her to the group, as in, this is Leah. Andy says Leah and Tinsley did become friends before shooting started; it wasn’t forced. Tinsley says they liked each other, and it annoyed Dorinda. Leah says, it was more of an homage to Tinsley, whatever that means, and she never even met Bethenny. She doesn’t understand, and Ramona wonders why Dorinda was foaming at the mouth when Tinsley’s name was mentioned. Dorinda says, Tinsley wasn’t transparent, and Ramona says, are you kidding? Tinsley says the minute she came on she was talking about her arrest, and we see a clip. I dunno. If weeping to her mother at the circus about freezing her eggs, while wearing a Baby Jane outfit isn’t transparent, I don’t know what is. Tinsley asks if she needs to poop in front of the camera like Dorinda did. 💩 Sorry, I had to. Dorinda says they were already down a person with Bethenny leaving, and Andy says Bethenny left a day before shooting. Dorinda doesn’t think they should honor people who haven’t stayed on. Andy says Tinsley spoke to him and Bravo, and they mutually agreed it was okay. Dorinda says what she’s learned is, you don’t have to stay to the end, and can hide stuff. Ramona says, that’s not what Tinsley did; what’s wrong with her? I’m thinking Dorinda isn’t going to change her mind – what Tinsley said – so why belabor the point? Tinsley says, Dorinda thinks she can keep talking and make it real. I’m definitely enjoying Tinsley’s spunk now that she’s shaken free of the franchise. Ramona says she has to pee. Thanks for sharing. Sonja says, at least she didn’t fall asleep. Andy calls after her that she forgot her mask.

Back in her seat, Ramona says she never turned her phone off, and Andy says, moving on. From chicken a la vibrator to LuAnn a la camel, the Housewives are always a trip. We flash back to vacations us normal humans will never be able to afford, the weekend at Ramona’s house, the camel ride, and Sonja’s birthday. Andy says they have so much to discuss, and wants to know how Tinsley ended up making out with her sister. Tinsley says, it was a joke. They were with a bunch of girls, and all demonstrating how they kiss. Andy asks if Tinsley is a good kisser, and Leah says she is. I guess that puts that question to bed. Andy asks, who put the vibrator in the chicken? and Sonja guesses she did. They discuss vibrators in luggage, and Andy says he’s impressed Leah got Tinsley to strip and swim. Tinsley says it surprised her too. He asks LuAnn how being put in a suite in Ramona’s basement was disrespectful, and LuAnn says, before the trip, Ramona said she was getting the best room, but she wound up in the basement. This answers that question not at all, and Ramona says she was concerned about Dorinda and Sonja bucking for good rooms. Dorinda says she doesn’t care where she sleeps, and TBH, I don’t remember that ever being an issue with her. Just Ramona and Sonja. Andy asks if Ramona got heat for referring to the waitstaff in Mexico as servants. Ramona says, she’s old – what??? alert the media immediately! – but she owns it. Now alert LisaR. Andy gives LuAnn props for getting back on a camel, and LuAnn says she runs toward her fears to conquer them. She wasn’t letting a camel throw her off and not get back on. Leah says she’s never getting on another camel. She says Sonja’s camel was angry, and bumping hers. It’s time for Tinsley to say goodbye, and they tell her to enjoy her happily ever after in Chicago.

Andy welcomes us back, even though… you know the rest. He says, LuAnn finished probation, and was ready to raise a glass to a bright future. From giving back to giving up sobriety, she was marry f killing it. We flash back to LuAnn making almonds amends, and Andy says, thinking back to last year, the women had it with LuAnn. We flash back to the last reunion, where LuAnn was called out. Andy asks what the biggest change in LuAnn has been, and Ramona says she’s more real, approachable, and down to earth. Sonja says, the pressure is off now, and Dorinda says, it feels like LuAnn is more centered. LuAnn says it’s a lot of pressure when you’re told if you have a drink, you can go to jail; it was almost two years. Andy says he was glad to see her and Dorinda get back on track, except for a hiccup in the Berkshires. LuAnn says there were a couple of hiccups, and Dorinda says she was upset about how LuAnn was treating Sonja. Leah says she thinks LuAnn is down to earth, although sometimes it’s all about her. LuAnn says with six brothers and sisters, she had to be that way sometimes. Leah says she finds it endearing. A viewer says, even when LuAnn was drinking, she seemed to be the sober voice of reason. LuAnn says she’s been through a lot, and had to check in with herself and her relationship with alcohol. Part of her recovery is learning what she’s able to do and what she’s capable of. She’s not always proud of her behavior. Another viewer says LuAnn needs to stop saying she’s been to prison, and she wasn’t on parole; she was on probation. LuAnn says she’s not schooled in the terms. She does want to raise awareness about the prison system. They’re making money from people’s misfortunes, and a lot of people are there for petty crimes. It’s a real issue that needs attention. Viewer Diana from Miami says Sonja claimed LuAnn paid for only half of her hair and makeup, and Sonja says LuAnn doesn’t really pay her. LuAnn says when she started the show, she had a show director and musical director who ran things. She asked Sonja to come to the show as a guest. When she performed at Sonja’s drag bingo party, she didn’t ask for money. Sonja says, that was for charity, and LuAnn ignores that, saying, the fans love Sonja. Andy asks if, as it gets bigger, she’ll give Sonja more of a piece of the pie, and LuAnn says she told Sonja that.

Andy brings up LuAnn’s dad’s alcoholism, and how she connected with him through her experience. He asks her to elaborate, and she says, it’s in the book, but her father had an issue with alcohol for ten years – when she was ten to eighteen. Her father was everything to her; she adored him. He had more class in his pinky than most people have in their whole body. She misses him every day. She starts to cry, and I tweet her, since I understand. She says, at the end of his life, he’d been sober for ten years. She spoiled him, taking him to Asia, London, and Paris, all over the world. He deserved it, and she wanted to share that with him. No matter how low you go, you can get back up. Andy asks what her hope for the immediate future is, and she says to be healthy and in a good place, and to feel in control of her life. She’s been working hard. Being busy for her is good. Ramona says she’s seen LuAnn evolve ins a positive way. When they first met, she was kind of on a high horse with her Countess image. We flash back to a million years ago, and LuAnn says she was hiding a bad marriage. She’s been through a lot; they all have. Ramona says, kudos to her. She’s proud to know LuAnn as a friend and person. She’s an inspiration to a lot women, and grown so much.

Andy tells us, the sun will rise, the birds will sing, LuAnn will mention cabaret, and the ladies will hit on every man in their path. We go down Man Memory Lane, where it’s mostly Ramona, LuAnn coming in second, then Sonja, and Leah bringing up the rear. Sonja asks LuAnn how it went with the groomer, and LuAnn says, it didn’t. He was married. Andy asks why Harry Dubin and Tom were at the center of their love triangle, when William was up for grabs. Ramona asks him to expand on who William is, and Dorinda says he was at her party. Ramona says, oh, Bill. They’re just friends. Dorinda says she’s friends with him too, and heard the gory details. Andy asks if Dorinda has any desire to meet someone new, and Dorinda says dating is where she’s at. Time will tell. Andy asks if she’s seeing someone, and she says, we’ll see. It’s not to be spoken of. LuAnn says, when Dorinda talks about him, her face lights up, and Dorinda says she’s waiting until Covid is over to see where it is. Andy asks Leah about the Berkshires bartender, and she says they made out and played pool. He was cool, but he lives in the Berkshires. She says she has nothing against one-night stands, but where she’s at in life, how she feels, and her age, that’s not for her. She’s looking for more. Andy asks who they think is next for a monogamous relationship, and Ramona says, Dorinda. Dorinda says she doesn’t know how to do anything else.

Andy says, Ramona took to Leah in a maternal way, but Ramommy didn’t appreciate Leah’s behavior, and she found herself in Housewife hell. We flash back to Ramona’s idiocy, and Andy says, it was a wild ride. It was striking to him that they found a connection that went awry. Ramona says she’s more controlled, and LuAnn says, more conservative. Andy says, the breaking point was Ramona’s party, and Ramona says they had a conversation beforehand. Maybe if she’d had pants on… Ramona admits she lost it, and Leah says, because of her dress? Ramona went ballistic, yelling, cameras off! and should have just pulled her aside. LuAnn agrees that Ramona should have just gone to Leah, and overreacted. Leah says she was dancing, and Ramona says she didn’t appreciate it. Dorinda says they were all dancing, but Ramona says, Leah started it. Dorinda says Leah had a leotard on underneath, and there were only women there. Andy asks Ramona if she thinks she overreacted, and Ramona says, yes, but no, both owning it and not. Andy says Ramona has a different standard for Leah than her other friends, and Ramona says she asked Leah to contain herself. Leah says Ramona has a weird infatuation with her and her sexuality, and held her to a different standard. Ramona says, Sonja is funny, like Lucille Ball, but Leah is crass. I doubt Lucille Ball ever acted like Sonja. Andy says something about Leah being young and beautiful pushes Ramona’s buttons, and Ramona says she feels like Leah’s mother. Dorinda isn’t having it, and says Ramona doesn’t treat Leah like that. Leah tries to talk, but Ramona keeps interrupting, even after Andy tells her to cut it out. Leah says it started before Ramona’s party. She made a penis joke, and Ramona told her that she couldn’t say that. We flash back to whatever dinner that was, and Ramona says her daughters were there. Leah says Ramona was jerking off her wine glass, showing how she picked up men, and we see her pretty much doing as described. Andy says the party in Newport seemed to change Ramona’s opinion, and Ramona says she’s not used to someone with Leah’s energy, which I guess is what we’re calling drunken crazy-ass antics now. Leah says she was drunk, and Ramona thought, now is a good time to tell her that her sister can’t come. She over-drank (is that even a thing?), and the next day had to keep apologizing. Ramona say she doesn’t like Leah when she drinks.

Andy says, Ramona brought out Leah’s mental health issues, and asks if Leah buys that Ramona’s friend just came across the information. Leah says she wrote an article in 2016. Ramona’s friends don’t work, and have nothing going on, so no doubt they were looking for something on her. Ramona says her friends do work – they’re in real estate. All 50 of them? Leah says she was drunk, and Ramona was saying it was bi-polar behavior. Ramona says being on medication and drinking is scary, and Leah says she’s not on medication. Ramona says, well, she didn’t know that, and Leah says Ramona should have asked her. Dorinda tells Ramona not to act like she’s a doctor; it was malicious. Ramona insists it wasn’t, and Leah says she knew it was going to be on TV, and her kid would see it. Kier had no idea about it, and Leah had to have a conversation with her. Ramona acts innocent, and Leah says Ramona brought it up when it was being effing filmed, and knew it would end up in the show. Why do that? Desperate to turn the tide, Ramona says, half of America is on antidepressants. Why not help America? Andy asks if Ramona stands behind bringing it up, or does she regret not personally talking to Leah? Leah said she would have appreciated that, and it would have given her a voice. In Mexico, she tried talking to Ramona, and didn’t even know why Ramona was mad at her. Andy says if the article was out there already, why was Leah upset that it was on camera? Leah says this is a new platform, and a new way of communicating for her, and it’s her story. I actually understand this, since I once wrote an article about a personal experience (not the same thing, but the article was public and on the internet), and this drunken wretch I knew got pissed at me, and thought she was revealing something, posting it on my FB page. Not only did this idiot not grasp that it was something already out there, they got reamed out by all of our mutual friends and booted from a trip they’d been invited on. Yay karma. Ramona asks, why not bring it up? and Leah says she didn’t want to talk about it on the show. Ramona wonders why, since Leah is open about her vagina. I guess that word is okay for Ramona to say now? Dorinda says, Ramona is obsessed with Leah’s vagina, and Leah says Ramona likes to take things that could ruin them and make it public, like with Sonja’s clothing labels (see below), and her being on bi-polar medication and drunk. LuAnn says Ramona knew she was struggling with a probation, and announced she was still drinking. We see a clip from the last reunion, where LuAnn said she wasn’t drinking and Ramona said she believed LuAnn was definitely drinking. Sonja says, LuAnn could have been arrested, and Ramona says, at least she doesn’t whine – like some people. Dorinda says Ramona says it’s all her skincare products, but she had a facelift. Andy asks if Ramona got a facelift, and Dorinda says, be honest; no one cares. Ramona says Dorinda likes to drink, and no, she didn’t get a facelift. Dorinda says Ramona has a new man every night, and Ramona repeats that Dorinda likes to drink. Okay. So do I. What the what? Dorinda tells Ramona to go with her 60 friends – Lu Ann says, 50 – who can’t stand her. Ramona says Dorinda is full of sh*t, and Dorinda says Ramona’s friends think she’s ratchet. Andy asks how they move forward, and can they? Ramona says Leah reminds her of herself. She moves to the beat of her own drummer, and is self-made. She had no ex-husband supporting her, or husband to guide her, or rich boyfriend. Leah has been on her own since forever, like her. She respects Leah. She thinks they had a conflict because Ramona felt maternal, and when that was taken away, it brought stuff up. Ramona asks if they can hug, but Andy is like, no way. They elbow bump instead, and Andy says, here come the health guys.

Next time, the Reunion concludes – Sonja tells Ramona S-T-F-U; Leah doesn’t think Dorinda hits below the belt, because she lives on another planet; Dorinda says she was angry and struggling, and Ramona made it worse; Ramona thinks it’s Intervention, and reads an 18-page letter to Dorinda; and Ramona asks why Dorinda is doing this.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava calls to Nikolas, telling him, the guests are starting to arrive. She’s wearing a black sequined number and he says, quite the outfit. He’s only wearing a towel, and she says, him too, trying not to look. She tells him, you should probably get chest… dressed. He says, don’t worry, and she says they need to sizzle tonight. If he ruins the night for her, he’ll regret it for a looooong time.

Franco thinks about Elizabeth saying he’s about money like everyone else. He took Ava’s commission for it, and he’s playing into her hands. Scotty comes in and says, the man of the hour, and Franco thanks him for coming. Scotty says he wouldn’t take the ferry if not for Franco. He’s sure Franco would like to see some nice friendly faces for his big comeback. Franco says, Ava calls it a revival, and Scotty says, a lucrative reboot. Franco’s got to get work, make money, and pay the bills. Where’s his wife?

At the hospital, Terry sees Elizabeth, and says, just the person she needs. Enlighten her; rumors are flying. Elizabeth says, the rumors are true. Unfortunately, Cyrus is on the board. Terry asks why it’s unfortunate. Now they have enough money to run the hospital. Elizabeth says, money is all they care about. Cyrus is involved in the drug trade, and now he’s right in the heart of the hospital.

Lucy walks up to the door at Windymere with Maxie and Peter, but says she’s afraid she’s not up for a party. The Nurses Ball is tomorrow, and she has a million things to do. Maxie says she thought Lucy would want to  be there for Deception. They need to see and be seen, and talk up the company. Lucy says Maxie is more than capable of doing that by herself. Go schmooze. She’ll see Maxie later. Ta-ta! Maxie grabs her arm, and says she’s staying. They go inside, and Lucy says she’ll be right there, and pretends to look at the artwork in another room. Maxie tells Peter that she thinks Lucy is hiding something, and Peter thinks she’s right. Maxie hopes it’s not too terrible.

Lulu thanks Dustin for letting her drag him there, and he tells her to stop acting like he’s doing her a favor. Talent is talent, despite the subject matter.

Franco tells Scotty that Elizabeth isn’t coming. She’s upset that Ava is dredging up his past. It’s the ten year anniversary of Francophenia. Scotty says he can see why she’d be upset, but there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Franco says he tried to explain that, and Scotty says, but she’s not buying it? Franco says, not at all. Even worse, he thinks Elizabeth would prefer to pretend his past never happened at all.

Anna and Finn go over their wedding list at The Floating Rib. Anna says, Chase and Sasha? but Finn isn’t sure of their status. Anna says, just Chase then. He suggests she add Robin and Patrick, but she says they’re not finished with his family yet. He says, Violet? and she asks if he isn’t going to invite his father.

Peter goes to get drinks, and Lulu says, Maxie didn’t tell him she was pregnant? Maxie says, shhh. Nina comes in with Jax, and he says, it can’t be easy, being back. She says this big, drafty house is part of the gloomy past that she’s glad to forget. She’d rather focus on her bright, handsome future.

Ava says, shall we, darling? And tells Nikolas to smile. It’s going to be a night to remember. I think, so was the sinking of the Titanic.

Lucy tells Ava, some people would think it was tasteless to have a private function just before the biggest, brightest charity event of the year. Ava says, you’d think Lucy would be at home before the one night of the year when she’s actually socially relevant.

Nina tells Franco that she’s glad he’s painting again. She’ll make sure he and Ava are in their Out and About page. He thanks her for her support. Lulu tells Maxie, she hates to point out the obvious, but Peter is the dad, and the longer she keeps the secret, the worse it will be. Maxie says, it’s not a secret. She just hasn’t found the time to tell him. Lulu says, really? and Maxie amends that to, the right time. Lulu asks what time will be right, but Maxie says she doesn’t know. Like she said, she and Peter have never even discussed having a child; not once. She’s not sure how Peter feels about it. Lulu says she knows how to find out, and Maxie says, how? Lulu says, by telling him.

Terry tells Elizabeth that Lucy almost single-handedly organizes the Nurses Ball. You’d think she’d vote with the Quartermaines. Elizabeth says, apparently Valentin backed the relaunch of Deception, and Lucy couldn’t jeopardize it. Terry asks if there was no one except the Quartermaines who could help, and Elizabeth tells her, Nikolas stepped up, but it was too late. At least he was willing to do it. It’s too bad he won’t get rid of Ava. He’s going to be at her side when her portrait is unveiled. Ava made tonight about resurrecting the old Franco, who couldn’t tell the difference between good and evil, because he had a brain tumor. He became famous for the wrong reasons, and that’s not her husband. She’s not supporting or celebrating him.

Ava tells Franco, sorry. He deserves better, especially from his wife. Nikolas says Ava is all about being a supportive spouse, and she tells him, not now. Nikolas says, sorry. He’s out of sorts since Spencer said he wants nothing to do with him unless he has the Cassadine money. Franco says, it’s got to be rough, being rejected by a kid he lied to for three years. Ava says she’s sorry Spencer took a hard line with Nikolas, and Nikolas says, they both lost a child. As much as they’d love to be celebrating with Kiki and Spencer, it’s not meant to be. Ava says they’ve all made their choices, haven’t they? She says she needs some air, and leaves. Franco says, what the hell? Spencer thinks Nikolas is an ass, but Kiki is dead. There’s no comparison. Nikolas says, Ava barely bated an eyelash, but Franco says, she finds any mention of Kiki devastating. Anyone who cares about her knows that.

Lulu and Maxie go outside, and Lulu asks if that’s the only reason Maxie hasn’t told Peter. Or is she on the fence about having a baby? Maxie says, the timing is all wrong. She thinks about how incredible it would be, having a child with Peter, but she’s not sure Peter feels the same way. Lulu asks if they don’t get along, and Maxie says, growing up with Faison caused Peter to doubt himself. What if he’s made the choice not to be a father? Well, I’m guessing Peter knows how babies are made, so wouldn’t he have thought about that before?

Finn says he hasn’t seen his father since he diagnosed him with Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome, and Anna asks if Finn isn’t happy about that. He says, he is, but they mostly communicate through Chase. She says, what about Violet? Doesn’t she deserve to have a relationship with her grandfather?

Nina asks how well Jax knows Lucy, and he says, not that well, but he’s known her forever. She asks if he has any idea why she voted for Valentin  to be in charge of ELQ. He says, of course (🍷) he does, and so does she. He bought into Lucy’s company to have leverage. He has no respect for Valentin, but admits it was a good business move. Elizabeth shows up, and Nikolas says he thought she wasn’t coming. She says she changed her mind, and needs to find Franco. He thinks Franco is out on the parapet, and says he’ll take her.

Franco finds Ava in the stables, and tells her that Nikolas is out of line, but she says he can’t get to her. He asks what she’s doing out there then, and she tells him, like she said, she just needed some air. Franco says, if she was looking for fresh air, it’s probably better in the stables, and she laughs. She sits, and wonders if she’ll ever be able to hear Kiki’s name without it breaking her heart. Franco says Nikolas was deliberately trying to wound her, and she says, maybe with cause. She thinks she’s gone too far.

Lulu says Maxie has to figure out what to do. Peter is a father, and needs to know. Nikolas and Elizabeth come out, looking for Franco, and Maxie grabs Lulu, saying they’re going to start their own search party. Nikolas tells Elizabeth, sorry. He thought Franco was there, but since they are, they might as well enjoy the view. He can have a nice moment where he can pretend his life is fantastic. She says, Spencer will come around, and he says he hopes so. He tells him that he did the right thing, offering to help the hospital financially. He says, if only Cyrus hadn’t gotten there first. He can’t believe the hospital is taking money from him. She says, it gets better. Cyrus is the new chairman.

Dustin shows Peter a little toy car that Rocco gave him as a present. He wanted to come, but Dustin asked if he really wanted to listen to grown-up conversation while looking at a painting, and Rocco decided video games and pizza were better. Peter says, kids never stop surprising you. James and Georgie keep him on his toes. Dustin asks if Peter didn’t ever want kids, and Peter says he’d never thought about it until Maxie came into his life. Maxie and Lulu come out, and he says, there she is; the love of his life.

Scotty tells Lucy, with all the problems Monica has caused, maybe the family can finally earn some money now. Lucy says, the most important thing is that GH was saved, no matter where the money came from. He says, that’s crazy talk. They don’t want a new benefactor coming in, and changing the policies and the staff. They could change what makes the hospital special. Lucy says, no more hospital talk, and suggests they focus on Deception. It was no walk in the park, reviving a company from the 90s, but she did it. She had help, but it was her vision and inspiration that made it happen. Finances don’t fall from the sky. Entrepreneurs make compromises sometimes. He says, Lucy… What have you done?

Nikolas tells Elizabeth, sorry he was too late, but she says, at least he was willing to provide the funding. That’s the Nikolas she remembers. He says he’s trying to get back to who he was. She tells him, hurry up; she misses him. He says he misses her too. He hates the distance between them. She says she needs to find Franco. There are some things between them she needs to clear up.

Lucy tells Scotty, Valentin was adamant about ELQ not bailing out the hospital, and she voted with him. Scotty says, what? She repeats that she voted with Valentin. She knew there was someone else who was going to help. He says, that Cyrus guy. He’s a threat to the community. Lucy tells him, the Commissioner said he’d been framed, wrongly jailed, and was focused on doing good for the community. So she voted with Valentin. Scotty says, she owed him, and knew the day would come when he’d need her tie-breaking vote. She says, it’s not her fault he got controlling interest. It’s on the shoulders of the family members who sold him their shares. The hospital will be fine. ELQ couldn’t do it, so Cyrus did. He says, you can’t trust him; especially since he’s a guy with a ponytail, for cryin’ out loud. She says she doesn’t know anything about that, and Maxie asks for a word with her. Scotty leaves, and Lucy says she knew this would happen, and one day she’d be the town pariah again. Maxie asks if that’s why she didn’t want to come, and Lucy wonders why no one can understand why she did it. She had no choice. She knew if she didn’t, Valentin would pull his money out. There would be no Deception, no launch; they’d have nothing. Jax asks if Lucy minds if he talks to her for a second. She says, that depends. Is he going to harp on her betraying the Quartermaines too?

Anna says she knows for a fact Chase told Finn’s father about Violet. He asks if his father has made any effort to get to know Violet, and Anna says he’s respecting Finn’s boundaries, and waiting for an invitation. Finn says he’s uncomfortable with his father and his father’s wife, and thinks Violet will pick up on it. Say he does let his father in, they don’t get past it, and it gets more uncomfortable. It’s the last thing Violet needs; someone being there, and suddenly gone. Anna thinks there’s another obstacle, and it’s not just because his father remarried.

Ava tells Franco that she’s ashamed to admit it, but she turned Spencer against his father. He says, if there’s anyone to blame, it’s Nikolas, but she says Spencer sees her as a traitor, and gave Nikolas an ultimatum. He’ll be in Nikolas’s life if she’s out. He says, then why not walk away? and she says, money. According to their post-nup, if Nikolas divorces her, she gets 90% of everything. Franco asks if she’s serious, and she says, the remaining 10% would be put in a trust for Spencer, but the kid wants to inherit the entire estate. So if she stays married to Nikolas, Spencer stays on the other side of the world. Franco says, it’s not her responsibility. The person to blame is Nikolas. Ava says she contributed to the problem and can solve it. If she ends the marriage, and doesn’t take the money, Spencer will take his father back. He asks if she can do it, and she says, just imagine if Kiki was still out there. If there was a possibility of Ava seeing her face again, it would be worth anything. What if she could do that? Give Spencer and Nikolas the healing and closure she and Kiki never had. Elizabeth listens in.

Elizabeth says hi to Ava, who says they weren’t expecting her. Elizabeth says, surprise, surprise, and Ava says, it’s good to see her. She has to get back to her guests, but she’s glad Elizabeth made it. She goes inside, and Franco thanks Elizabeth for changing her mind. She says she came to stand by her man and see his masterpiece unveiled. He says she’s made him happy. She’s made his whole night.

Anna says Finn’s father has been married for a decade. She understands, but thinks Finn’s estrangement from his father is going to affect Violet. Finn disagrees. He thinks Violet should know her grandfather, but he lives in California. It’s not like he has a presence in her life. Anna says she lives the same distance from Robin, but they stay in touch. Kids live half their lives on a screen, and it’s made long distance relationships easier. Although she does wish she lived closer. There’s nothing she loves more than giving her grandchildren a hug.

Maxie stumbles, and Peter asks if she’s okay. She says she just slipped on her heel.

Lucy thanks Jax for being a gentleman, and not berating her. He says he’s a businessman, and understands the deal she made, but Cyrus is another story. She says, that’s not her fault, and he says, that may be true, but she defended him earlier. She needs to understand, Jax’s daughter was almost caught in the crossfire when Cyrus went after Sonny’s family. She could have been killed; Laura too. She says, that was Cyrus? and he says, there’s no official proof, but Sonny is convinced, and on this subject, he trusts Sonny. Lucy tells him, but Jordan said… and he says he doesn’t pretend to understand why Jordan did that, but technically, it’s true. Cyrus was wrongfully imprisoned, but he’s still a dangerous criminal. If he were her, he’d be careful.

Ava sees Nina on the parapet, and asks if Nina was looking for her. Nina says she wondered where Ava disappeared to, but came out for a breath of fresh air. She loved coming out there when she lived at Windymere. Ava asks if she misses it, and Nina says, parts of it. She misses family time with Charlotte, but she’s accepted the fact that a relationship based on lies and secrets can’t last. Ava says she’s starting to think a relationship based on extortion can’t last. They laugh, and Ava says, trapping Nikolas into a loveless marriage seemed like a good idea at the time, but now she sees it’s not only hurting Nikolas, but Spencer too.

Lulu tells Nikolas, she wanted to check in with him about Spencer. Nikolas hopes their relationship is improving, and Lulu asks, how? He says Spencer told him that he wanted to be his son again if he divorced Ava. She says, clearly, that’s not happening, and he says he’d rather not go into detail. She asks, why? He’s her brother, and she knows he loves his son. It makes zero sense, accepting what’s going on. He says he’s not accepting it, and she asks if keeping one secret is more important than their relationship. Is it more important than regaining her trust? He says, no; it isn’t.

Maxie says she takes full responsibility for dragging Lucy there, but she neglected to inform Maxie that she totally sold out the Quartermaines. Lucy says she did it to save Deception, their bread and butter. Maxie says, no judgement, but Lucy needs to leave. She’s not the best brand ambassador right now. Lucy says, sorry, and Maxie says, this too shall pass. Go rest, so she can be her dazzling self at the Nurses Ball. Lucy suggests Maxie also call it an early night; she’s looking peaked. They need to knock them dead, and be on point tomorrow. Scotty says he got a new convertible; let’s go. Lucy leaves with Scotty, and Peter says, Lucy is right. Maxie looks pale. Is she sure she’s okay? Maxie says she just wants to schmooze the artist, and get it over with. She asks Franco, how long until the great unveiling? How much did Ava pay him to glorify her, and make himself relevant again? Franco says, hostile, and she says she remembers him, but he proved he’s a changed man. He convinced a judge he was a changed man, and now he’s free to be living his best life. Instead, he’s reliving his bad boy genius. The whole thing makes her nauseous. Elizabeth says Maxie has a point. He says the only important thing is, he’s the guy who gets to be married to her, but she wonders where that guy is. The only important things seem to be about everything except the man she loves.

Lulu says Nikolas recruited Spencer to be involved in his power struggle with Ava, but Nikolas says, Spencer jumped at the chance. She says he’s not understanding. He needs to have faith in Spencer that he’ll choose his father over money, not recruit him to be his accomplice. Nikolas says, Spencer is fighting for his inheritance, but Lulu says he’s bonding with Spencer by making his son his partner in crime.

Ava tells Nina, she never had the opportunity to see Spencer and Nikolas together, but she did see how Spencer mourned his father. They had a special bond, and seeing how upset Spencer was when he found out Nikolas was alive spoke volumes. She sees how Nikolas is taking their estrangement. Nina says, it’s one thing to help them reconcile, but the question is, can Ava give up her revenge? Ava doesn’t know. Nikolas made her think she was crazy, and that she saw his ghost. He used Kiki against her, and said they were in hell together. Although she wasn’t much better. The only thing stopping a reconciliation is the stupid post-nup she forced Nikolas to sign. Nina says, revenge is not all it’s cracked up to be. At least for her it wasn’t. Even if you hurt the person, it just ties you more closely to them. She exposed Valentin’s lies at the altar, and got zero satisfaction. It was only when she turned away from the bitterness and ugliness that she found peace. Ava knows what she has to do.

Franco says he thought Elizabeth was there to support him. She says she was, but she’s not comfortable with any of it. She can’t stay. He says he’ll try not to be late, then wonders if she wants him to come with her.

Maxie tells Peter, Franco and Ava are in there all smug and satisfied. She couldn’t help herself. Franco was dishonest. Elizabeth married him and brought him in as a stepfather, but he’s loving his first chance in the spotlight. Franco isn’t like Peter. Peter put in hard work to turn his life around. He says he hopes he never disappoints her, and she says he won’t, as long as he’s honest. She thinks her water smells weird, and he asks, what’s going on with her? She says this is working her last nerve, and he says she’s been dizzy and lightheaded recently. He’s seen her navigate a playground in stilettos. Is she okay?

Jax asks if Nina found Ava. She says she did, and dared to give Ava advice. He says, giving advice can be tricky, but she says she was willing to risk it. It was because of him. He’s proof she can make smart life decisions. Ava comes out wondering where her husband disappeared to.

Lulu says, so Nikolas and Spencer are working together, and he says he has his son back. She asks if she should be happy about him dragging Spencer into the game he’s playing with Ava. He asks, what’s the alternative? Let Ava walk away with 90%? It’s unacceptable to Spencer and him. She asks if it ever occurred to him that Spencer just wants to please him. Spencer isn’t going along for the money, but for his father. Nikolas is missing his moment to turn this around, and stop manipulating. Choose his son, and let Ava decide if she’s going to keep the money. He says he can’t take that risk. Ava has to give up before the marriage ends. She says, he’s pulling Spencer into a lie, and he says, Ava forced his hand. He has to get back out by manipulating the situation. Lulu says, wow. He’s as set on revenge as much as he was when he first came back, and refuses to see what it’s costing.

Anna says she and Finn have been telling Violet that the wedding is about family. Having his father there will show her that he’s part of the family. Finn says maybe he would like them to get to know each other, but that’s not the only problem. He’ll leave it at that. She says, she’s not leaving it at that; it’s about his stepmother. He says he can’t imagine her at their wedding. It will take away from the day – for him anyway. If he invites his father, he can’t exclude her. It’s too complicated. She says she hates to break it to him, but families are complicated. His father is still family, so can’t he put their differences aside for one day? For Violet’s sake?

Dustin says Lulu looks pissed, and she says, once again, her brother has gone below her worst expectations. Ava tells Nikolas, it’s showtime. Franco tells Elizabeth that Ava can take over after the unveiling, but she says she has to leave. Is he coming or not?

Ava tells her guests, on behalf of herself and Nikolas, she thanks them for coming to this celebration of revival and redemption. She teased the return of a talented artist for some time, and would like him to come join her next to her portrait. Franco looks at Elizabeth, but she doesn’t look at him. He goes up front, and Ava says she was going to make a speech, but she realized what she had planned doesn’t seem important anymore. So she’s just going to say she was so happy when Franco agreed to paint her portrait. She’s proud to share it with them tonight. So without further ado… Franco unveils the portrait, and everyone looks shocked. Elizabeth shakes her head, and Franco and Ava look at each other.

Is she naked maybe?

On Monday, Maxie says she has something to tell Peter, Elizabeth tells Nikolas that Ava will destroy what good is left in him if he’s not careful, and Ava says she plans to remedy the situation perfectly.

🌃 Hey, It’s Still Dark Out…

Long story short, the new site editor causes difficulty for some links. So until I have a minute to figure out a way around it, I switched back to the classic version, an upscale word for the way it was done before. Thank God it’s Friday. We still call it that, right? Keep that weekend sacred, and change your environment for a moment. But while you’re doing that, stay safe, stay authentic, and stay like Bill Murray in Meatballs, telling yourself, it just doesn’t matter.

Curtis and Jordan met with TJ and Molly at the MetroCourt. TJ told them that he and Molly realized they wanted to commit themselves to each other. Curtis thought they should celebrate, and Jordan wondered if they should have included Alexis. Sonny came along, and said he heard the exciting news. He congratulated them, and told TJ, welcome to the family. TJ said he was honored that Molly chose to spend her life with him. She was the best person he knew.

On the phone, Lucy told Ava that she had an all cash offer for the penthouse, but the call broke up, and Ava couldn’t hear who the buyer was. Cyrus walked up to her, saying her name, and she asked who he was. At the gym, Sam tried to get Alexis to exercise, but Alexis wanted to mope. Sam said last night, they’d eaten junk food and watched British rom-coms that only Alexis liked. I guess moping is only a one-day thing for Sam. Alexis said she liked being an attorney, and had been one her whole life. Couldn’t she take one week to mourn her career? She was disbarred, and wondered if she wasn’t an attorney, who was she? Judge Lowe said they’d waited long enough for Nelle, but Nelle ran in, wearing a wedding dress and carrying a bouquet. She said, the most incredible thing just happened. She was no longer Miss Benson, and she and her new husband had been unavoidably detained.

Sam suggested Alexis appeal. She told Alexis that she was an amazing attorney; she could get herself out of this. Alexis said it was perjury. It was a violation of her fundamental duties, and there was no coming back from it. Sam said she’d have to work on her second act then. She could sit back and figure out what she wanted to do. What Alexis wanted was to stay home and binge watch TV. Sam’s phone rang, and when she stepped away to take the call, Alexis kicked the boxing bag. Brando asked if it was her first time at the gym, and she said she was brought there against her will. He told her to blink once if she needed to be rescued, and she did. Sam came back, and asked why Brando was talking to her mother. Sonny said Kristina was excited about Molly and TJ’s upcoming domestic partnership, and gave him a lecture on how it was more enlightened. He told them if they were happy, so was he. He was sorry about what happened to TJ, but TJ said things were back to normal, except he was bummed that he had no details for Mac. It didn’t make sense; the kidnappers didn’t even ask for a ransom. Sonny asked what Mac had turned up, and Curtis said he was sure the PCPD was doing everything they could. Sonny said he was too, and moved on. Molly told TJ, the time without him was awful, but TJ said it was behind them; they were going forward now. Cyrus told Ava that he was new to Port Charles. He’d been skeptical of Lucy, since she was excitable, but she understood real estate, and the penthouse suited his needs. Ava said Lucy didn’t tell her his name, and he introduced himself, holding out his hand. Ava didn’t take it, and said she’d heard of him. He said he was aware of her reputation as well. She asked what he meant, and he said, as a gallery owner. He heard she was unveiling a new piece by Franco at Windymere, and said it would be a memorable evening. She said he wasn’t on the guest list. Cameron, Trina, Josslyn, and Dev sat down in the park after visiting Oscar’s Meadow. Josslyn said it had been a year since Oscar died. She still missed him, and thought she always would, but now she smiled more than cried when she thought of him. Trina said it was progress, and Josslyn apologized for being absent. She didn’t keep connected while she and Dev were on house arrest, but no more hiding with her journal. Trina said the first step was admitting she had a problem, and Josslyn said she’d still write in it, but it wasn’t as necessary. She missed her friends. Martin begged the court’s indulgence. His client was still elated about her happy news. Nelle said her husband was here now, and Julian walked in. Diane said just when she thought he couldn’t sink any lower, and Michael told Willow, Nelle just overplayed her hand.

Nelle apologized, saying she lost track of time. She hadn’t even had the time to change. Judge Lowe told Martin to get his client under control, and tell her not to address the court unless she was addressed directly. He asked for the marriage license, and Julian produced it. The judge said they’d have a brief recess while he checked its validity, and when he returned, they would proceed. No more outbursts. Carly told Willow that Nelle couldn’t have picked a worse candidate; Julian was an ex-mobster, and just tanked Nelle’s case. Sam introduced Brando to Alexis, who told him that she was also Kristina’s mother, and he’d met her other daughter, Molly. He said Molly came into his garage when she’d had a fender bender, and Alexis said she’d heard about it. He said it was nice to meet her, and went back to his workout. Alexis told Sam, no wonder Molly slept with him. He seemed nice, had a sense of humor, and he was cute. Sam said she didn’t see it. Sonny sent champagne over to TJ and Molly’s table, and Jordan said she wanted to thank him personally. She went over to where he was sitting, and said TJ was back safe. Their collaboration was over. He asked what if Mac’s investigation lead to Cyrus? and she said she could handle it on her own. Cyrus told Ava that he was surprised she wasn’t more open, since she’d had struggles herself. She said that was behind her now, and she wasn’t going backward. He was responsible for a good friend losing her father. He said she’d been misinformed. He just came out of prison, where his sentence had been vacated. She said, how convenient, and he said he was focused on building a new life. The penthouse was perfect for him. His phone rang, and he went elsewhere to take the call. Sonny was in the vicinity, and told Ava, what the hell?

Sonny told Ava, just when he thought she had an ounce of humanity, she was doing business with a drug trafficker. She asked why he was so quick to think the worst of her, and he said she never disappointed him. She told him, Trina was her intern, and was devastated by her father’s death. Sonny asked why she was doing business with Cyrus, since he was responsible, and she said Lucy hadn’t told her who the potential buyer was. Dev suggested they all get off their phones, and Josslyn thought they should do something fun after school tomorrow. Cameron said he and Trina had plans; they’d been playing ultimate frisbee. They’d been doing it a while, and he didn’t know how much playing time Josslyn and Dev would get if they joined in. Josslyn asked if they didn’t want her and Dev to go. At the MetroCourt, the venue for TJ and Molly’s ceremony was discussed, and Jordan said she’d like to have some girl talk with Molly. Diane told Michael and Willow, stick to their strategy. Don’t over-exaggerate, be themselves, and don’t engage. She said just when Alexis put Julian in the past, he did something else to inflict pain. Michael wondered what Nelle had on him. Martin asked what Nelle was thinking, showing up late, and married to… him. Julian said he wanted what was best for Wiley, and Nelle said what was best was Wiley living with them. Carly told Michael that someone had called last night, warning her that Nelle knew about his wedding. He asked, who? and she told him, Sasha. Curtis asked how TJ was really doing, and TJ said he was fine, but Curtis said the kidnapping would have freaked out anyone, including him. TJ must have believed he would be killed. TJ admitted he had nightmares, and would wake up panicked and paranoid. Curtis told him to reach out with whatever he needed, and TJ said he needed to pull himself together before he drove Molly away.

Ava said Sonny held himself up like an excellent role model, and wondered what he’d do when Avery found out what his business was. He said his business was as legit as hers. Sonny got a text from Carly, saying Nelle had married Julian, and Ava asked if it was important news. He told her to ask her brother. Molly asked Jordan if she was upset because they weren’t having a conventional wedding, but Jordan said she was mortified about how she’d acted, and owed Molly a major apology. It was never her goal to hurt Molly, and she thought Molly and TJ were perfect together. Sam brought a jump rope over to Alexis, who said she’d decided to use the steam room. Sam said she was staying to work out, and when Alexis was gone, she asked if Brando had a minute. Carly said Sasha was afraid Nelle might interfere with the wedding, and Michael said she might be the Sasha he used to know. He asked Diane how Nelle being married would affect their case, and she said Julian’s shady past would bolster it. Nelle looked like a lunatic, and Julian looked like he was going to this execution. Michael and Willow looked like what they were; a committed couple, devoted to each other and Wiley’s well-being. Judge Lowe returned, and Diane made her  opening argument. She said Wiley’s well-being was at stake, and that was the number one reason sole custody should go to the biological father. She said Michael was the CEO of a multi-million dollar company, but wasn’t an absentee parent. Brad and Lucas had asked him to be Wiley’s godfather, and he’d been in Wiley’s life since day one, as had Willow. At the Quartermaine’s, Wiley would be surrounded by extended family, and feel loved. It was Martin’s turn, and he told Nelle, no matter what, stay calm.

Brando assumed Sam was going to tell him not to talk to her mother, and suggested she give him a list of every relative she had in Port Charles. Sam said she wanted to apologize, and he said he accepted. Should they start over, and be satisfied with a silent nod across the room? She said she’d take that. Molly and Jordan came back to the table, and Curtis asked if Jordan was okay. She said she had a lot going on with work, and TJ asked if it was about Cyrus. She asked what he knew about Cyrus, and he said just what he’d read in the paper. Jordan had figured out Cyrus was framed, and he’d been exonerated. Molly said she admired Jordan’s integrity. Curtis said she’d done what was needed. Cyrus told Ava that he knew she and Sonny shared a daughter. If she needed help putting Sonny in his place, he’d do it. She said she needed nothing from him, and he suggested they talk about the penthouse. She said she’d never sell it to him, and don’t ever mention her daughter again. Trina said Josslyn was competitive, and if she was on the sidelines, she’d have a nervous breakdown. Dev said it was about team building and sportsmanship. Josslyn wondered again if Trina and Cameron didn’t want her there, and Trina told her not to be silly; she’d text Josslyn the details. Josslyn told Dev that they had to head back, and Trina and Cameron said they were going the other way. When they left, Josslyn said she genuinely thought they didn’t want her to go, but Dev thought Trina was being a friend. Cameron had no idea how to act around Josslyn. Josslyn said Cameron had known her his entire life, but Dev said, but now he liked her. Martin told the court, what already happened was a Greek tragedy. Nelle had been in a car accident, and was left in the woods to give birth alone. Nelle fingered the half-heart necklace in her hand, and Martin said she’d passed out, and when she came to, had a dead infant in arms. Brad had switched babies, and Nelle grieved a baby she thought was dead. When incarcerated, she’d also risked her life stopping serial killer Ryan Chamberlain, which got her an early release for heroism. Then came the shock of her life – the baby hadn’t died. Lucas did the right thing, but Michael only thought of himself, and Nelle had to petition the court to see Wiley. Then another miracle happened – his client found love. Nelle flashed back to telling Julian that she knew he’d caused the accident that nearly killed his son. Lucas would never forgive him, but when Sonny found out he’s known who Wiley was, Sonny would kill him. Martin said, it was like Shakespeare; a love story of a brave young woman, just out of prison, starting a new life; and a man recovering his own life. They were kindred souls. Julian remembered telling Nelle that she was so desperate to keep Michael away from their son, she begged Brad to take him. Nelle told him that if he persuaded Sonny to believe Brad, it would prove he knew about it, and Sonny would kill him. Julian asked what if he dealt with her himself, and she said there was a sealed envelope to be opened in the event of her death or disappearance. It would lead the cops straight to his door. Martin said he knew there was concern about Julian being a known mob kingpin, and Nelle recalled Julian telling her there was nothing left to say except, will you marry me? She told him, get a suit, and they’d seal the deal. Martin said they blended their lives together to raise Wiley. Their house might not be as big, but it would be filled with love. Nelle continued to play with the necklace.

Cameron said he missed the four of them being together, and Trina said, it wasn’t so bad, just him being there. He said he’d always have her back, and they pinky swore. Josslyn asked if Dev really thought Cameron was into her, and he said she was the last to know. She said it made no sense. She’d been a mess. Why crush on her when she was at her worst? Dev guessed the fake dating Josslyn and Cameron had done to make Oscar jealous wasn’t so fake on Cameron’s part. Josslyn asked why Cameron never said something, and Dev said, Josslyn was in love with Oscar, then grieving him; the timing was wrong. Josslyn wondered how it wouldn’t be awkward now, but Dev said he was sure Cameron understood that she didn’t feel the same way; that they were just friends. Cyrus asked for a word with Jordan, and Curtis told him, keep moving. Cyrus said since Jordan had revealed everything to Curtis, he could put Curtis’s skill set to use. Curtis told him, don’t push it, but Cyrus said he was just offering Curtis some business. The health of the Police Commissioner and her loved ones remained his top concern.

Judge Lowe gave the court a one-hour meal break. Willow asked Diane if she thought the judge believed Martin, but Diane said it was more important for them to keep up their calm demeanor. Carly suggested they all go to the MetroCourt, and Diane said she’d meet them; she had to make a phone call. Nelle asked how Martin thought it was going, and he said he was pleased. He told Julian that he should come eat with them. Diane called Alexis, and told her Nelle got married. Alexis said she was surprised but not shocked; Nelle wasn’t going down without a fight. She asked who Nelle lured into marriage, and Diane said, Julian. Martin said he wanted to avoid putting Julian on the stand. He wanted to paint Sonny as a threat, but since Julian was also affiliated with organized crime, it was best not to open that line of inquiry. Julian wasn’t interested in going to lunch, and Nelle said he’d agreed to be a loving husband. He said he was beginning to think there were some things worse than death, and Nelle said couples needed time apart. She left, and alone in the courtroom, Julian told himself to get it together. He was about to leave, when Sonny walked in. Sonny said, congratulations on marrying one of the few people he hated more than Julian.

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

In Santa Monica, David and James met with Serene and Ray, sellers they’d worked with before, but who decided they weren’t ready give up home. Now they’d been called in again. The house, named Margherita, was in a suburban oasis; quintessential California living at its finest. The  interior had been repainted since they were last there – to the tune of $7K – and it had made a huge difference. In the before pictures, the rooms were dark and brooding, but the afters showed a much brighter, welcoming home. It had six bedrooms and nine baths, and since Serene and Ray only had one child left living at home, they were only using three of the bedrooms. Serene introduced them to a pet lizard they’d gotten for son Connor. It was only supposed to live three to five years, but Connor was now 26, and the lizard was still going strong. She took the lizard out, and only David was game enough to hold it, which I found amusing, since it fit in the palm of a hand. David was still a little weird about it, and in his interview, said he’d had maybe 50 pets growing up, so you wouldn’t think he would be squeamish, but it was a long time ago. The house had a children’s loft that I mentally moved in to, and was on a 21,000 square foot lot, with a private artist’s studio, greenhouse, and pool house. The sellers had found a tear-down in the wall of a canyon, and were psyched that they could build what they wanted. James David asked if there was a chance they’d change their minds again, but Ray said they were all in. David James said they had to come up with a price that made sense for both them and the sellers, since the last time it was high. Serene said they hadn’t really wanted to move, unless someone came up with that price, but they were ready now. In his interview, James said they’d been disappointed. They’d invested $10K in marketing and photography, and couldn’t afford to lose that much again. A price of $17.995 was agreed upon, and David said he knew it was less than they’d expected, but he didn’t want to make them happy now, and unhappy later. The couple needed to trust that the brokers had their best interest at heart, and Serene said they did.

JoshF went to the LadyGang podcast studio, where he was meeting with one of the hosts, Becca Tobin. He said she’d had to twist his arm to be on the podcast, but he was happy to sell her a house. Becca said she needed to get approval from her work wives, Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek; they wanted to see if Josh could hang with gang. They played a game called Flagg or Bag, where they either threw out or kept a trend. In his interview, Josh thought Keltie didn’t like him, which was a recurring theme in his life. He asked what Becca was looking for, and she said she and husband Zach Martin were moving because they needed more space. She liked the L.A. Hills, and wanted privacy, a view, and a pool. She also wanted the new house to have space for the podcast studio. She said she needed the house to have character; modern white boxes weren’t her jam. Mine neither. Her budget was $2-3 million. Josh said he specialized in older homes, and he was officially welcomed to LadyGang.

The Altman brothers checked out a house in Beverly Hills. JoshA said he wanted to make sure the figure the seller was looking for was realistic, since people didn’t understand times had changed. The house was off the beaten path, and Josh said, buyers were looking for prestige, exclusivity, and privacy. Being stuck behind a garbage truck in your Bentley wasn’t so prestigious. The owner’s representative, Rick, met them, and showed them around the 12,530 square foot house. It had floor to ceiling windows, pocket doors, a private theater, a humongous kitchen island, a butler’s kitchen, an infinity pool, and a gym that had never been used. Matt said his had never been used either, and Josh demonstrated his prowess, nearly hurting himself. Rick showed them the 180 degree unobstructed views, and said the asking price was $26.995 million. Josh said it needed to be priced better than other houses people were seeing, and thought $21.995  was more realistic. Rick said he appreciated Josh’s honesty, and agreed to the price. In Josh’s interview, he said the seller had spent over a million on the sound system, and didn’t even live there.

At the Margherita house, agent Jane demonstrated a cornhole game. David and James wanted people spend time outside at the open house. James David thought lawn games would take up space, and demonstrate the expanse. They wanted to bring an East Coast barbecue vibe to Santa Monica. Whatever that is. I live on the East Coast, and I’ve never heard of a barbecue vibe. David James suggested a cotton candy machine, and in his interview, said they wanted to showcase the backyard, so that it would be the first thing an agent mentioned to their client.

JoshF took Becca and Zach to see a home in Outpost Estates, where the homes had been built in the 1920s and showcased Spanish architecture. On the way there, the topic of Broadway was brought up, and Josh graced them with his rendition of Yankee Doodle Dandy. (Hint: He’s no James Cagney.) Becca appreciated the older homes, and Josh said if he saw one more modern white box, he was going to throw up. He told them that the houses there were large, but unassuming from the front, and it was a close community, but not gated. For this one, he was representing both sides, so it would be a double-dip. The seller was asking $2 million for 3500 square feet, three bedrooms and four baths. It had 20 foot ceilings, amazing ironwork, exposed ceiling beams, unobstructed views, and wasn’t on the market yet. He told them there wasn’t a ton of land, but it was like a villa, with terraces everywhere. He showed them the master bedroom downstairs, where the magic happens, but Becca said there was no magic; they were married. The bedrooms and baths were all en suite, and one bathroom had a telephone in it – next to the toilet, where I always love to have conversations. He said it had old world charm, but needed an update. At the price, they could do the changes, and in the meantime, be living in a great neighborhood at a great price. Becca loved the old fixtures, which she found charming. Josh said he had an idea, and took her to a separate room which he said had podcast studio potential. It was entirely red – the walls, the floor, the ceiling, and the furniture – and Becca said it felt like murder, and was a hard no for a studio. Josh said maybe a body was buried there, and Becca said, I can’t. Zach wasn’t keen on spending $2 million when it still needed work, but Becca loved the privacy, and how it was close to everything, yet far away. Still, she wanted to check out something more expensive that didn’t need work.

Josh showed Becca a house that had a Mediterranean vibe. In his interview, he said the people who lived in the area were mostly writers and directors of reality TV, and a producer told him, f*** off. He said, sorry, but I wasn’t quite sure what that was about. The house had been built in 1920, had authentic 15 foot ceilings, and was one of the first houses built there, with both views of the city and a view of the Hollywood Hills. The most impressive thing IMO was the 235 square foot closet, which was about as big as my first apartment. It had three bedrooms, and the price was $2.304 million. I missed how many bathrooms, but another notable feature was a king’s bathroom, designed in Tudor style. The house on my corner has a bathroom like that, which I love, but I never knew there was a name for it. The backyard was nearly 5000 square feet, and included a guest house. Becca said it had a lot of character, but the bedrooms were small, and she didn’t love that it was on the street and too close to the neighbors. Josh said maybe the next one would be the house.

David and James set up their barbecue at the Margherita house, to the tune of $7K, inviting agents who had clients with families, looking for something on the West Side. James got his cotton candy machine, and there were all kinds of lawn games, like a giant Jenga. They wanted buyers to picture their kids there. One broker brought an intuitive astrologer to preview it for her celebrity client by checking out the energy. Astrologer Victoria said the house felt stable, and suddenly went to the window, pendulum swinging, saying she felt something. She claimed she could feel a woman who had waited for someone during WWII, and said the energy was good. In his interview, James David said, whatever it took to get the offer, he was down with it. Nothing else on the market could compete.

JoshF took Becca and Zach to a house in reminiscent of old Hollywood, off the strip, that was amazingly colorful. He said it had been built in 1926, and had vintage charm. It was 3000 square feet, and included a movie theater. The seller’s broker passed out bags of Cracker Jack, and Josh said the room had podcast potential. Becca wanted to move on to the rest of the house, but Josh insisted on digging for his prize. She told him that his prize was the commission on the house. There were three bedrooms, a private guest suite, a pool, and spa. Josh said it was fun and quirky, but at $2.749 million, they could get more bang for their buck with the Outpost Estates house. Becca thought that was the one, and Josh suggested they make an offer of $1.8, which wasn’t offensive. Becca said it was a yes.

JoshA got the bad news from Rick that an offer of $15 million had been made on the Beverly Hills house, and the owners wanted to take it because they wanted to be done. Josh said it was $7 million under the asking price, and the potential buyer had seen it before it was listed. Not only would they be stealing the house, he’d get no commission. He told Rick, it was highway robbery, and Rick said he had 24 hours to get a better offer. Josh said he’d show the house all day.

Wearing a kimono, JoshF met Becca and Zach at the Outpost Estates house, giving them the key and a bottle of Dom Perignon. They’d gotten the seller down to $1.87 million, Josh telling Becca if the house went to the open market, they’d have competition. Becca had told him, let’s do it, and he said now it was time to celebrate. He told her that he wanted to explain the kimono, and Zach said he was nervous. Josh said he should be, and led them to the murder room, where Keltie and Jac waited with bundles of smoking sage. Josh said they were cleansing the room of evil, so Becca would feel comfortable in her new home, but she joked that it made her more scared. They christened the room, and shooed the porn screen murder out the door. Becca said they’d turned a nightmare room into a dream, and they popped the champagne.

Next time, the biggest bathroom I’ve ever seen, the owners of the Margherita house sound like they’re backing out again, and Josh tries to sell a house in one day.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I didn’t even bother checking the guide, since I knew it would just be wrong, and also knew today’s GH Flashback was from May 5th, 2020. Revive your memory below, or if you’re a stickler for details, go to:

https://tvwiththeresa.wordpress.com/2020/05/06/may-5-2020-elizabeth-tells-nikolas-to-let-spencer-decide-lucci-speaks-jax-has-an-episode-kelly-gets-good-news-nick-sings-star-wars/

Franco asked Ava what Nikolas did, and Ava said she thought she was supposed to be comforting him. Franco said he was trying to get her to open up, and she admitted she and Nikolas had an argument about Spencer, and it got ugly. Nikolas said Kiki had despised her, and she’d driven Kiki away. He told her that he hoped Carly’s influence saved Avery. Franco said Ava’s marriage was toxic. She should leave the dark prince to brood on his own; she didn’t need any of it. At the hospital, Nikolas said Elizabeth was obviously upset, and she told him that he’d driven her sister out of Port Charles, causing her to abandon her daughter. The Nikolas she knew would never do that; that’s not a friend. Nikolas said he was at a crossroads, and needed her help with a decision. In her office at Crimson, Nina thanked Jax for talking to Charlotte, and Jax asked how it went. She said Lulu showed up, talked to Valentin, and agreed to drop the petition for full custody. They’re going to share custody 50/50. On the phone, Carly asked Michael how it went with Diane, and told him that Diane would make sure he had every advantage when they went to court to fight for Wiley. At the MetroCourt, Nelle asked if Martin was prepared to win sole custody for her, and he said that depended on her. Still arguing at the clothing drive, Kristina told Sam that she’d never asked for help. Sam took it upon herself to act like a savior. Sam asked if she was supposed to watch Shiloh exploit and brainwash Kristina. She loved Kristina, and Kristina had given up on them, not the other way around. Kristina said she’d been in pain and depressed. She’d felt hopeless and alone when she joined DoD. Where was Sam’s concern then? Sam had probably expected her to be a loser. Sam suggested Kristina go to therapy. Sam had been on trial for murder, gone to prison, and lost time with her children. She couldn’t be around her family now. Kristina said Sam had wanted to go against Shiloh, just like she enjoyed sneaking around, violating her parole. Sam was addicted to danger, and the only reason Sam and Jason were still in love was because of her.

Elizabeth told Nikolas to find someone else to talk to, and he said Spencer was willing to explore their relationship again. Elizabeth said she told him Spencer just needed time to heal, but he told her not to pop the champagne cork yet. Spencer had agreed under the condition he leave Ava. Elizabeth said that was a get-out-of-jail-free card. Franco told Ava, she had the gallery, but she said it wasn’t an island. Franco got that she wanted to be queen of the castle, but thought she should find a real prince, and dump the frog. Ava started babbling about where to hang the portrait, and Franco said she didn’t need to do that with him. He knew the real reason she’d married Nikolas. Carly told Michael that Diane was the best, and was thoroughly prepared to show he was the better parent. Nelle could try conning the judge, but the truth would come out. Jax told Nina, there was nothing worse than being caught in the middle of a nightmare custody battle. There was a difference between a parent who adored their child, and one who was good for them, and Valentin fell short. Nina said Charlotte made Valentin a better person. Carly showed up, and asked if Nina had something they could use against Nelle in the custody hearing. Nelle told Martin that she had a respectable job and had just bought a house. She was going to win because Michael had just suffered a shattering breakup; he’d been cheated on. Martin asked if she’d leaked it to The Invader, but she said Wiley’s mother wasn’t mean-spirited or malicious, but she expected him to tell the judge about Michael’s failed relationship. Martin asked if Nelle could keep a partner, or did they all die? Franco said, in a weird way, Ava’s choices were motivated by love, but he didn’t understand Nikolas. He thought she was punishing herself for Kiki’s death. Elizabeth told Nikolas that he had a long way to go before he turned back to being the good guy she knew. He said if he divorced Ava, he’d lose everything, and she asked if Spencer wasn’t worth it. She wondered if he had feelings for Ava. Kristina said Sam was a danger junkie, and couldn’t stand the day to day. She’d wanted domesticity with Drew, but when the real deal came back, Sam went back to ride or die. Molly said Jason loved Sam, and Kristina said she there was no question Jason would die for Sam. He just couldn’t live with her.

Nelle told Martin that her fiancé’s death had been an unfortunate accident. She’d pleaded guilty to spare his family any further pain. Martin said he’d get out the violin, and she said she prevented Ryan’s escape at her own peril. Martin said she was good, but if he brought up Michael’s relationships, hers would also be called into question. She said Shiloh was the love of her life, and their relationship was tragically cut short by Sam, who was a good friend of Michael’s family. Sam made her a widow. He asked if she had any character witnesses that could testify as to her integrity, humanity, and compassion. Nina told Carly, she hated to admit it, but Nelle had been an exemplary employee. She couldn’t give Carly what she didn’t have. Carly said Wiley would need surgery again in another six months, and if it was up to Nelle, he wouldn’t get it. Nina asked if Carly had listened to Nelle’s reasons, and said she thought Wiley would be better served if Michael compromised like Lulu and Valentin had. They put their issues aside for Charlotte’s sake, and Charlotte is better off. She thought shared custody would be the best situation for Wiley. Carly said Nelle had won Nina over. Nikolas told Elizabeth that she had no idea what it cost him to survive the shooting and the fall. The entire time, he’d been planning his return, and all that kept him alive was his need to reclaim his  name and birthright. Spencer had no idea what it was like to live without a fortune. Elizabeth said, 10% was still a fortune, and it wasn’t like Spencer would be out on the streets. How did he know what Spencer wanted without talking to him? Would Spencer rather have money or his dad? Ava told Franco that he was wrong, but he said she sabotaged her happiness because of Kiki. Ava didn’t kill her, Ryan did, and she’d rather do battle with Nikolas than deal with her feelings about Kiki. She told him to stop caring, and go back to the psycho he used to be.

Nelle told Martin that Carly had locked her on the hospital roof, and signed her name to documents allowing unnecessary surgery on her child. Martin said, so she had no one to vouch for her character? She said she visited Wiley every day in the hospital, and even brought the nurses donuts. They could attest to her maternal instincts. He said he needed someone she’d known longer than a month. Michael was going to have a parade of pillars of the community, family, and friends, which she lacked. Nina told Carly that she thought Nelle wanted to be the best mother she could, and Carly said Nelle was a pathological liar, incapable of accepting kindness, or showing love and affection. She would leave Wiley emotionally damaged. Nina said what if Nelle was affected by mental illness? and Carly said Nelle was a sociopath, and totally playing Nina. Jax said he thought Nelle was taking advantage of Nina, and Nina asked, what if Carly had been judged on how she used to be? If she’d had no one in her life who’d stood by her, who would she be now? Sam asked what Kristina meant. Kristina had always been supportive of her and Jason’s relationship; why was she saying that Jason would want to be away from her? Kristina said it was hotter when they were forced to be apart, and the relationship wouldn’t survive without drama. Nikolas told Elizabeth, he was afraid of Spencer’s answer. Spencer had said he didn’t care about the money, but he was used to the lifestyle. Elizabeth said Nikolas couldn’t make assumptions about teen boys. Cameron had hated Franco, and now they were each other’s biggest fans. Nikolas wondered how two totally different people could find happiness, and Elizabeth said Franco had stood by her when she was the town pariah, and they’d connected over art. Franco told Ava that he wasn’t a psycho anymore, even if Ava’s invite said that. Ava said he had a tumor to blame it on; she didn’t. He said he still had to deal with the people he’d hurt in his head; it didn’t go away. Ava asked how he coped, and he said, Elizabeth and the boys, making art, and being of service. She said she didn’t do healthy well. She wasn’t good at finding love, but she knew how to make money, and played to her strengths. He said by exploiting the bad boy genius artist, and she asked if he was okay with that. Nelle told Martin that she had no family, but a good lawyer could make her terrible childhood work. Martin said the judge would want to know if she had someone to call in an emergency. It would be a hard sell with her having opposed Wiley’s medical procedure. To be honest, her best hope was for shared custody.

Jax suggested Carly and Nina dial it down. He told Nina, even when he and Carly were at odds, he never thought Carly would use Josslyn to spite him. Nina said it was better to have the love of both parents, and Jax said she couldn’t compare Carly and Nelle. Carly said she never risked Josslyn’s health or safety to punish the family, and there was more to motherhood than biology. Nina didn’t understand because she’d never been a mother. Nelle asked why she was paying Martin so much, and wanted a refund on her advance, unless he could ensure she’d get sole custody. He asked if she was prepared to be a mother. Ava told Franco, talent could only get you so far, and she had to remind the public who Franco was. He said he was okay with that, but he wasn’t so sure about Elizabeth. They’d had an argument, and he’d hurt her feelings. Ava said she knew Elizabeth would forgive him. Let her bring the bad boy back to the art world. it was the one bright spot in the foolish, ridiculous life she’d built for herself. Nikolas told Elizabeth, this was about Franco, not him, and Elizabeth said she wasn’t thrilled that Ava was using Franco’s criminal history to promote his art. Franco had said that wasn’t how the art world worked, but she didn’t know that because she wasn’t a real artist. Nikolas said he was there when she found her talent and found solace in art. If she could have developed her vision, she would have put Franco to shame. She wasn’t afraid to show her soul. Nelle said Martin was accusing her of being a bad mom, and he told her that wasn’t what he’d said. Fighting for custody was easy; raising a child was hard. Nelle said she was alone for the nine months she carried Wiley, and alone when she gave birth. Martin suggested she read some baby books and blogs, and make sure she talked about the minutes she’d had with her son. He told her to wear not-waterproof mascara, and find a character witness, preferably someone not in prison. She said he didn’t want to let her down.

Carly said she knew Nina believed she would have had a connection with her child, and been the best mother, and she would have, because she’s a good person. Nelle didn’t have it in her. She’d handed Michael’s baby to Brad and said the baby had died. Nina said, maybe she was telling the truth; Brad lied about everything else. Carly said Nelle didn’t give a damn about Wiley. All she cared about was hurting Michael. She asked Nina to think about that, and tell her if she can’t remember anything they could use. Carly left, and Nina asked Jax if she was wrong. Carly waited for the elevator, and Nelle came out. Sam told Kristina, something always got in the way of her and Jason being together, like Shiloh. Alexis said Sam went to prison for Kristina, and Kristina said, now Sam was on parole. If she stayed away from Jason, she’d be home free, but Sam can’t help herself. She had to break the rules and spice things up. Jason appreciated Sam when he wasn’t busy taking care of Carly and Sonny. Jason was always busy cleaning up their messes, while Sam was home taking care of the kids. Jason would die for Sam, but his first priority was Sonny and Carly. Nikolas said he had no right to ask Elizabeth to trust him, but to give him a chance. She had the soul of a true artist. She asked him to think about calling Spencer. Franco said Ava’s life would be more bearable without Nikolas, and she suggested he apologize to Elizabeth. They had a good marriage, and could make it better. Tell Elizabeth that all he cared about was making her happy. He said he was glad he could help, and Ava said he did, more than he knew.

Nelle asked if Carly was trash talking her to Nina. Carly said she’d been trying, but Nina seemed to think she and Nelle were friends. Too bad Nelle was going to betray Nina, like she’d done everyone else. Carly left, and in the office, Jax told Nina that Carly had some good points. Nelle listened outside the door, and Nina said she was aware of Nelle’s dark side, but she’d seen Nelle’s vulnerable side, and didn’t think it was an act. Jax disagreed, but Nina said maybe Nelle just needed a person to believe in her. Maybe she was that person. Nelle came in, and Jax couldn’t leave fast enough. Nelle thanked Nina for standing up for her, and Nina said, don’t make her regret it. Nelle said she wouldn’t, and had a big favor to ask. Wiley’s custody hearing was tomorrow, and she had no one to vouch for her. Carly made sure of that. Nelle said she was wondering, would Nina willing to testify on her behalf?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Round, and round, and round it goes. Where it stops is a GH Flashback from July 26th, 2016.

At the MetroCourt bar, Nina showed Carly the progress Crimson had made in finding Josslyn’s kidney donor, by using their website to reach out. Kristina asked Sonny if he could accept and deal with her being gay. Could he accept her? Sonny said it was a lot of information to take in. At Perks, Alexis was freaking out because Kristina hadn’t come home last night, and hadn’t called. She left a message for Kristina, saying she knew Kristina was an adult, but as long as she was under Alexis’s roof, she had to call and say she was all right. Paul showed up, and told Alexis that Julian was being arraigned, and she said she’d be watching while Julian was remanded without bail. Julian was in the hospital, griping about how all of this was driving him and Alexis apart. He said he wasn’t giving up or going to the arraignment, and ripped up his divorce papers. Julian’s henchman came in, and Julian asked about Ava, but the orderly said no one had heard from her. Julian told him to get a dose of the medication that would make him sick, since he needed to stall.

On Cassadine Island in Greece, a load of people – Ava, Laura, Doc (who’d been shot), Lulu, Dante, Sam, and Jason (really Drew who still thought he was Jason) – were being held prisoner by Valentin, who at the time called himself Theo. Nikolas had been with them, but Theo had already shot him and he’d fallen out a window and disappeared (he was later presumed dead until he showed up for Valentin and Nina’s wedding, two years later). Lulu had gotten away through a secret door which led to underground tunnels. Sam and Jason were in a separate room with a guard, and Jason was chained to a chair. They woke up the guard, who told them to be quiet or he’d shoot them. Sam got up to get some water, felt dizzy, and fainted. In another room, Theo told the rest of them that he’d like to let them go, but it was unlikely they’d keep their mouths shut. He asked who wanted to be the first to die, and Lulu showed up with a gun, saying she voted for him. She told him to drop his gun, and order his guard to do the same.

Paul told Alexis that she should concentrate on her own situation. The Bar Association was going to charge her with a violation, as she’d refused to take a deal for Carrrlos in exchange for him testifying against Julian. She hadn’t been acting in the best interest of her client. He suggested she do herself a favor, call Diane and work on a defense strategy. She was looking at disbarment. Kristina told Sonny about her attraction to Parker, but Sonny said he’d known gay guys from his club days in Brooklyn, and they’d all known they were gay early on. Nina read one of the responses to Josslyn’s story to Carly, who said they weren’t a match for Josslyn’s blood type. Even though it wasn’t Josslyn’s donor, Carly still wanted to contact the parents, and tell them how grateful she was for what they’d done.

Lulu said if Theo thought she couldn’t or wouldn’t pull the trigger, he’d be wrong. Theo said if she pulled the trigger, so would he, and asked if she thought she could kill him before he killed her mother. Would she bet Laura’s life on it? Jason told the guard to help Sam, and swore if something happened to her, he’d kill him. Like the Hulk, he broke the arms off the chair, and the chains holding him to it.

Carly told Nina it was a huge undertaking, and Nina volunteered to help her with the follow-ups. Carly said they had a bond, since they’d both made the mistake of dating Franco, but wondered why Nina wanted to help. Nina said it was good for business, and driving traffic to the website, but Carly didn’t buy it. Nina said her chance at being a mom came and went when she was asleep, so it made her feel good to help. It made her feel motherly. Paul went to Julian’s hospital room, and suggested he save the taxpayers some expense, but Julian wanted to prove he was innocent. Paul said he was going to personally oversee Julian’s hospital release, and escort him to the courthouse. Julian would be doing a perp walk, and Paul arranged for press photographers. Julian said his next show with the press would be an apology. Paul said this was just the preliminary round. The main event would be when he took Sonny down. Kristina told Sonny that she’d never felt this way before Parker, who’d helped her after her break-up. Sonny asked if Parker reciprocated, and Kristina said she thought so. Sonny said when Kristina propositioned Parker in exchange for a better grade, Parker had turned her into the administration. Kristina said she’d broken the rules. This was all new to her, and she wondered if they could talk about it. Sonny said if he hadn’t seen Kristina and Parker kissing, would she have told him the truth?

Alexis called Diane, and told her the Ethics Committee and the ABA was coming after her. Diane had to come up with a strategy. Julian was being arraigned, and she needed to be there. She told Diane to send her an email with the precedents on ethics violations. She saw Parker getting coffee at Perks. Sam opened her eyes, and Jason told her that she’d fainted, and gave her some water. She asked how he got free; what happened? He said the chair was old, it broke, and he got free, which didn’t exactly explain how he broke those chains. He told her to stay there, but she said they were in this together. He said she  was the most stubborn person he’d ever met in his life. Theo told Lulu, put the gun down, or watch her mommy die. Lulu lowered the gun, and the guard took it from her. Dante had gotten the guard’s gun, and Theo said that went for him as well. He told Dante and Lulu to hold hands so they could die together. It showed he was merciful.

Paul said he’d gotten Julian dead to rights, and was going to send him to prison. Julian said Paul had obtained his confession illegally, and he was going to get his attorney to suppress it. Paul said Julian was going to answer for his crimes. Julian’s thug, dressed as an orderly, said he needed to check Julian’s vitals. Paul said, it was time for Julian to face justice afterward. Paul left, and the orderly showed Julian a vial. Alexis asked Parker why she was at Perks, and Parker said she was attending a conference at PCU. Alexis said she was at Kristina’s workplace, but Parker said she didn’t know Kristina worked there; she was just there to get coffee. She had no idea why the hostility, and thought they’d found common ground. Alexis told Parker that she’d said she’d stay away from Kristina, yet here she was. Kristina didn’t come home last night, and hadn’t called home. Parker said Kristina was fine, and Alexis asked if Kristina had been with Parker. Parker said they’d spent the night together.

Kristina admitted that Alexis knew months ago, and Sonny asked why she didn’t tell him. Kristina said Alexis had encouraged her to be honest with him, but she didn’t think he’d understand. He was Sonny Corinthos; the real deal. She was his seriously messed up kid, and they couldn’t manage a relationship. She’d been suspended from school, and was constantly questioning who she was. She was scared. He said, of what? Did she think he wouldn’t love her or he would turn his back on her? She told him, yes. Nina told Carly that she had to get back to Crimson before their publisher went to jail. Carly said it would be great to have Julian behind bars, and Nina said she wasn’t going to miss him. Josslyn came in, and on her way out, Nina said Josslyn’s story was an inspiration to her readers – and to her. Carly told Josslyn that Nina was referring to the response to her transplant, and Josslyn said she knew they meant well, but she wanted them to stop the search for her donor.

The orderly told Julian that he could only get one dose, so make it count. Nina came in, and Julian said he couldn’t catch a break. He assumed she was there to gloat, but she said he assumed wrong. It was a document giving her full autonomy over Crimson, in exchange for her silence about acts of corporate sabotage. If he was convicted, she had to protect the magazine. He said he wasn’t going to prison, but she said he couldn’t be too sure. He signed, and she was almost out of the room, but turned around, saying he missed a spot. She bumped into the orderly, and he dropped the vial, spilling what was inside. She said good thing they were at the hospital, and he could get more medication. Kristina told Sonny that she loved him, but sometimes he could be intimidating. He told her, everyone said that, but it wasn’t about him; it was about her, and them together, trying to make it right. She could tell him anything. He might not understand, but they’d work together to figure out where to start. He’d been under the impression that she was more than friends with Aaron. But then she met Parker? Kristina said she liked Aaron, but their relationship was on the surface. She connected on another level with Parker, and never felt a deep connection like this. Sonny said Parker had been Kristina’s professor and mentor, which put Kristina at a disadvantage emotionally. If she wanted to go out with women, fine, but Parker wasn’t right for her. Alexis told Parker that she’d taken advantage of Kristina, but Parker said she hadn’t; Kristina had sought her out. Kristina wanted closure, they talked, and it led to something else. It was innocent. Alexis said, it wasn’t innocent. Parker was an adult in a position of power, and seduced a young, questioning girl. Parker said she and Kristina were both adults and willing participants, and Kristina couldn’t find her identity without exploration. Alexis said it was nice of Parker to take time away from her marriage to be Kristina’s guide. Parker said she was getting a divorce, and Alexis said now she didn’t know if Parker was rebounding, or had convinced herself she cared. Parker said she cared very much about Kristina, and Alexis said she cares about her intern, but doesn’t sleep with him. She wondered if Parker could see a future with Kristina, because Kristina did. She thought Parker should put an end to that fantasy.

Carly told Josslyn it was important to complete her medical records, and Josslyn said it was more important to protect her privacy. Carly was making her life story public. Carly said she didn’t know it was a problem, and Josslyn said it got worse every day. It was bad enough she had a scar, now everyone knows how she got it. Carly said the transplant saved Josslyn’s life, but Josslyn didn’t see why it had to be public knowledge. She hated that kids were talking about her behind her back. Carly said she was sorry people were so stupid and ignorant, and Josslyn said she wanted to go back to when it was normal. Carly said they needed the information, but Josslyn said the longer she went without a recurrence, the longer it was certain she’d be fine. She said if Carly didn’t stop the search, the next time she visited her dad, she was staying and never coming home again.

Sam and Jason came in, and overtook Theo and the guards. Theo took off, and Jason and Dante disarmed the guards, then Jason went off to find Theo. The guards were tied up, and locked in a room. Lulu hugged Dante, and said she’d gotten scared when the guard took him away. He asked where she’d gotten a gun, and she said she’d knocked out a guard, but he could be awake by now. She flashed back to going through the tunnel, and finding remains. Laura said Doc saved her life. Theo was going to shoot her, and Doc got in the way. Ava suggests they get the hell out of there, but Sam wanted to wait for Jason. Lulu said, he’d saved their lives, but Ava said they didn’t want to give that maniac a chance to do to them what he’d done to Doc and Nikolas. Jason tore through the house, looking for Theo, but he was gone.

Carly said she needed to safeguard Josslyn’s health, but Josslyn said her dad was on her side. Carly said there were no sides, and Josslyn said, her privacy versus Carly’s public quest. Carly said she almost lost Josslyn once, she wasn’t losing her again, but Josslyn asked if Carly every thought about how it affected her. Carly said she did, but she was the adult, and had to make decisions Josslyn might not like. That was a parent’s job. Josslyn said it wasn’t fair. Carly was so afraid of losing her that she was hurting her. Julian put the final signature on the document, and told Nina, go. Nina said he was rude, and not to expect her to visit him in Pentenville. Julian told the orderly that he needed to get another vial, but the orderly said he didn’t know where they were kept. It was too late, because Paul came in, and said Julian was cleared to leave the hospital. His arraignment awaited. Carly called Nina, and told her to call off the search, and remove it from the website. She couldn’t get into it; just do it. Parker told Alexis, she couldn’t break things off with Kristina just like that, and Alexis told her, do right thing and save Kristina hurt down the road. If she cared about Kristina, walk away. Parker said she didn’t want to hurt Kristina, and Alexis said she should have thought about that before she set this in motion. She needed to end it, and Alexis would help Kristina pick up the pieces. Kristina told Sonny that he didn’t have to worry, but he said he always would. She was his little girl, and he’d never give up on her – ever. She said he didn’t answer when she asked if he could accept a gay daughter, and Sonny said she was his daughter. There was no question – no matter what.

Carly apologized to Josslyn, and said her story would be removed from the website, and Josslyn thanked her. Josslyn went off to get some ice cream, and Sonny came in, followed by Nina. Nina said she’d concluded her business with Julian. She passed Paul on the way out; he was there to slap the cuffs on Julian personally, and roll him out the door. Sonny said that was good news. Nina told Carly that she’d thought some more about how they could zero in on the donor, but then Carly called off the search. Carly said Josslyn felt her privacy was being violated, so it would be removed from the website, while they discreetly continued. Nina left, and Sonny asked if Carly thought that was a good idea. Carly said she knew what was best, and Josslyn would come around when they found her donor.

Josslyn called Jax and said he was wrong. Her mom got why she was upset, and promised to drop the search. She handled it. Carly asked why Sonny was so blue. Kristina saw Alexis at Perks, and apologized for not calling; she’d gotten busy. Alexis said she was worried, but she knew Kristina had been with Parker. Kristina asked if Sonny told her, and Alexis was surprised that Sonny knew. Kristina said he saw her with Parker. Alexis asked how it went, and Kristina said, better than she thought it would. Sonny told Carly that he’d talked to Kristina, and she’d come out to him. Kristina told Alexis that she was glad she’d told Sonny the truth. It was a lot for him to process, but he still loved her. Alexis said, of course (🍷) he did, and Kristina asked how Alexis knew she was with Parker. Alexis said she ran into Parker at Perks, and Kristina said they made each other happy, and they were going to figure out what happened next together. Meanwhile Parker was writing a letter to Kristina saying, I’m sorry. I can’t.

Jason told the others that Theo was gone. He’d barricaded himself in a room, and by the time Jason broke in, Theo had disappeared. He said they were getting out, and they started to leave. Lulu didn’t want to leave Nikolas, but Laura said Doc needed help, and they had to get back to Spencer. In the tunnel, Theo made a call, and said the guests weren’t leaving alive.

That was sarcasm. I don’t know if bringing this show back is a good idea. And I don’t mean because of the pandemic.

🤿 Here We Go Again…

Get your mask on and do something different, whether or not you call this a weekend. It’s been another long week for me, waiting on test results for one of the dogs, and hoping for a (technically) negative outcome. I have several who are the same age, and they all seem to be reaching that age. See you on Monday-really-Tuesday, and meanwhile, stay safe, stay hoping for the best, and stay holding your fluffballs close.
