What I Watched Today

(The whole GH enchilada on Fridays; the other days, who knows?)

General Hospital

In the boathouse, Carly says she expects the truce between Jason and Drew to last, and Jason says he’ll keep his part. She says, it’s affecting his relationship with everyone. Tell her what’s going on. He says he’s not telling her.

Molly looks through her old journals from back in 2012 and finds entries about TJ. There’s a knock at the door, but she ignores it. There’s another knock, and she opens the door. It’s Ric, and she says she can’t, then closes the door.

Sonny visits Natalia in her office and she asks if he’s here on Deception business. He says he stopped by to discuss personal business.

Maxie asks if James is sure he saw Lulu in the house, and he says he is. He swears she was here, and suggests they call Mac to solve the mystery. Maxie says she is going to call Mac. There’s something shady going on.

Lulu thanks Dante for bringing her to Laura’s apartment. She can’t wait to see her mom. They knock and Lucky answers. She asks how he’s been, and they hug. Lucky says he’s so glad she’s okay, and she says, it’s been an adventure. Where’s mom?

Anna comes into Laura’s office, and Laura asks if there’s any word on Lulu, but Anna says, no one’s responded to the BOLO yet. Laura says, on the other subject… and Anna says, he just arrived. She opens the door, and Dex comes in with Cyrus in handcuffs. Cyrus asks if Lulu’s been found, and Laura says, that’s none of his business. Unless of course (🍷) he knows where she is already. He says his nephew is misguided. He had nothing to do with Lulu’s disappearance. He’s committed no crime. Why is he in handcuffs? She says she’s having him arrested for stalking her daughter.

Ric asks Molly to let him explain. He took the case to help her, not Ava. He’s not denying Kristina’s fall and Irene’s death were a horrible tragedy, but nobody’s to blame. He knows that’s not something she wants to hear, but let him talk. She says she doesn’t want to hear what he has to say. Thanks to his help, TJ is staying somewhere else tonight.

Sonny says, Natalia’s description on the stand of the car accident didn’t match Kristina’s, and Natalia says, Kristina was upset. Her memory is probably fuzzy. He says, she perjured herself. It’s a serious crime. She risked a lot. She says, the testimony she gave is the least she owes his daughter.

On the phone, presumably with Mac, Maxie says, Lulu’s awake? and James says he told her that Lulu was here. She says, James saw her. She was probably confused by the strange boy scarfing down cookies. They have to find her. Call her as soon has he knows anything. She calls Dante and asks if he knows Lulu is awake.

Carly tells Jason that the kids are going to feel the tension. What about Danny and Scout? Don’t make them pick their fathers over each other. Danny comes in, and Jason asks, what’s wrong? but Danny says, nothing. He starts to leave, but Jason says, hold on. Something is obviously bothering him. Let’s talk about it. Danny says, Rocco got his mom back.

Lulu tells Lucky, long story short, she went to the Quartermaines to look for Tracy and found Rocco. Then Dante showed up. Dante says he needs to go and tells her to call if she needs anything. He leaves, and she says, something’s off with Dante. Lucky says, one minute, she’s in a coma, and the next, she’s on Dante’s doorstep. It’s a lot. Lulu says, it’s a lot for her too. She’s still trying to process, including Lucky being here. He says he thinks the last time they saw each other… It was when they were helping bring Jake back from Cassadine Island. She says, the last big Spencer family adventure. So far anyway. It’s good to see him, but she knows Port Charles isn’t his natural habitat. He says he came when he heard she was in trouble. She needed a liver transplant. She says, he came to be her donor? What about Nikolas? He says, Nikolas was a match, but there were other factors involved, and she asks if Nikolas is at Windymere. He says, no. Nikolas is in prison. She says, they’ll revisit that later. So with Nikolas out… Lucky says he was her best bet. That’s why he rushed back. She says, her family rallied around her in a time of crisis. Is dad back too?

Laura says she asked Cyrus not to visit Lulu without her permission and he falsely represented himself as someone who could make Lulu’s medical decisions. Anna says, as a paroled felon, it will land him back in Pentenville, but Cyrus says he’s not stalking Lulu. Laura says, she’s missing because of him, and he says he didn’t take her. Laura says, she left on her own, and he says, she’s awake? Laura says, yes, and she’s on the run thanks to him.

Dante arrives at Maxie’s, and she asks, where’s Lulu? Who’s more important for her to see? He says, she’s at her mom’s, and Maxie says, fair point. Laura must be overjoyed. He says, she’s not there, and Maxie says, so why didn’t he bring her? He says he left her with her brother, and she asks, how far down the list is she? How is Lulu doing? She’s awake? He says, yes, and she hugs him. She asks how Lulu escaped Turning Woods. Did she tell him that she came here? Tell her something. Dante says, it’s like she didn’t miss a beat. She’s smiling and talking like her old self. Maxie says, it’s a miracle, and he says, it really is.

Lucky tells Lulu that he doesn’t know how to say this, but dad died. Lulu says, he didn’t. Call him and he’ll be here faster than you can say Ice Princess if he knows she’s awake. He says, dad can’t, and he won’t. He died in a cable car crash in Austria. They recovered his body. (Since when?) It was him, no question. Lulu says, he can’t have died from a random accident, but Lucky says, it wasn’t. Victor Cassadine sabotaged the cable car. Victor finally succeeded where Helena failed. He’s sorry. She asks when it happened, and he says, December 2021. She says, he’s been gone three years, and she didn’t know, and Lucky hugs her. He says he’s so sorry.

Ric asks, what happened with TJ? and Molly says, Ric won. She decided he was right, and that Ava never intended to hurt Kristina or Irene. It was just an accident. He says he’s glad she can see that, but what does it have to do with TJ? She says, he thinks her accepting the verdict (which hasn’t been reached yet) is a way to avoid her grief. He thinks she wants to forget Irene like she never existed. He says he’s sorry, and she says she’d like him to leave, but he says, not before they talk about him putting her on the stand.

Natalia tells Sonny that when she waits for a call from her daughter that never comes, she thinks about how terribly she treated Allison and Kristina. She’s so ashamed of her behavior. She hopes her testimony at least begins to make up for the pain she caused his daughter. He says, what happened with Kristina, it’s all good with her, and he thinks the same way. What Natalia did doesn’t compare to what Kristina’s uncle did to her today. Natalia says, he was so brutal, and he says, Ric is using her to hurt him, just like Jagger Cates did.

Jason asks Danny to tell him what happened, and Danny says he saw Rocco and Dante talking to a lady. It was Rocco’s mom. Carly asks if he’s sure, and he says he’s seen a picture. And he could tell by the look on Rocco’s face. She’s the only person who could make him that happy. Carly says she needs to go to the house, but Danny says, she and Dante left. Rocco is still there, but he didn’t know what to say. Jason says, tell Rocco that he’s happy his mom is back, but Carly says, Danny misses his mom, and Danny nods.

Ric says, if he’d thought it would harm Molly, he would have never done it, and Molly laughs. She asks if he thought forcing her to testify against her sister would be harmless, and he says he knew she’d tell the truth. She says, he weaponized her ethics to hurt her sister, and he says, she’s all about justice. He remembers her defending her friends from bullies on the playground. He’s hoping he doesn’t look like a bully. She says, what he put Kristina through was more savage than what a playground bully could come up with. But who is she to judge when she’s said that to Kristina herself?

Dante tells Maxie that he was staring at Rocco, who looked like he couldn’t believe it. He was really happy, but the sad part was him realizing how much he missed his mom and how long she’d been gone. Maxie asks how Dante is doing, and he says he’s doing fine. He’s happy Rocco’s mom is back. She says, but the joy doesn’t outweigh his grief at losing Sam.

Cyrus says, their prayers have been answered. Lulu is awake. How… Anna says, the security footage showed that she left alone, and he says he’s so happy. Why is Laura angry at him? Laura says, he went against her wishes and continued to visit Lulu. She thinks Lulu heard him talking to the medical staff and thought he’d abducted her. She ran out of there in a weakened state. If anything happens to Lulu, she’s going to hold him responsible.

Lucky gives Lulu something to eat, and she says, their dad could turn anything into an adventure. She was always jealous of him being on the run with him and mom. Lucky says, they would have taken her if she’d been born, and she says, he got the good years, when their parents were together. After she was born, mom got sick, and she was raised by Grandma Lesley. He says, she’s still living happily in Italy with Marcello, and she says, what about Tracy? She knows Tracy lives at the Quartermaine mansion, but she didn’t see her. He says, fierce and formidable as ever, and Lulu says she couldn’t believe when dad married her. Making Tracy her stepmom was one of the best things he did for her. She can’t imagine life without him. He says him neither.

Natalia asks how Kristina is doing, and Sonny says, hanging tough. She’s like her dad. He doesn’t have a lot of faith in the legal system. He hopes it doesn’t fail them, but if it does and Ava walks, he’s going to be there for his daughter.

Danny says he remembers what hugging his mom was like, and Carly says, and when he saw Rocco… Danny asks why Rocco gets to have his mom. He knows it’s not Rocco’s fault, but his mom saved Rocco’s mom’s life. They should both be here. Why did his mom have to die?

Ric tells Molly, for what it’s worth (🍷), her mom had plenty to say to him about Kristina. Molly says, that was the worst part, him tormenting Kristina with her own words, what she said when she confronted Kristina at Irene’s grave. He says he regrets it, and she says she should have never claimed Kristina didn’t love Irene. She knew how much Kristina loved that baby. She never meant to hurt Irene. She just can’t get out of her own way. She feels, then reacts. Kristina doesn’t think. She was always the opposite. She approaches things rationally and logically. Maybe TJ is right and she’s cold and unfeeling.

Lucky says he didn’t go to Luke’s memorials. There was one here and one in Amsterdam. Lulu asks, why not? and he says his excuse was that he was doing humanitarian work, but if he’s being honest, he couldn’t face listening to a room full of people reminisce about dad. She says, he wouldn’t have wanted a memorial. At most, he’d want them to have a drink. Lucky says he did that. He got blind drunk. She says, dad wanted them to live life to the fullest, and he says, never take life for granted, cowboy. She says she certainly won’t, thanks to his liver, but Lucky says he wasn’t her donor. That’s why he came back, and he was a match, but apparently a parasite he picked up in Africa made the transplant too risky. She says, if it wasn’t him, Nikolas, or mom, who was it? Do they know? He says, they do. It was Sam McCall. She says, that’s generous. She’ll have to thank… What now? He says, Sam’s part of the surgery went great, but afterward, she was given the wrong medication, and she went into cardiac arrest. She didn’t make it. Lulu says, Sam died because of her.

Laura says, her daughter knew Cyrus was dangerous, even if she didn’t know he was the one who was behind the bomb that put her into a coma. She’s getting a restraining order. If he tries to approach her daughter or any member of her family, he’ll be arrested. Get him out of here. Anna says she’s not quite done with Cyrus yet.

Ric says, Molly isn’t cold. She feels things deeply. TJ is wrong. She says, don’t start on TJ, and he says he doesn’t like seeing her in pain. She says, it’s not TJ’s fault, and he asks if these are her old journals. She says, TJ is in every one since they met – all the celebrations, arguments, plans, and dreams. It’s wild to think he might not be in the next one. First, she lost her daughter and her sister, and now TJ. What does she have left? He says he loves her and always will, and she says she appreciates that, but she doesn’t want him here right now.

Anna tells Dex to take Cyrus to the station and hold him until someone from Turning Woods arrives. See if they want to press charges. She thinks it will probably be in the morning, but they’ll make sure he’s comfortable. Dex takes him out, and Laura asks if that’s legal. Anna says, it’s not illegal, and Laura thanks her. Anna says, my pleasure, and they hug. Anna looks like she’s worried about something.

Lucy says, Sam’s death had nothing to do with Lulu’s transplant. It was in the results of the autopsy. Don’t blame herself. Lulu says, Danny and Scout lost their mom. Why would Sam risk her life? He asks if Dante has said anything about Sam, and she says, no. Why? He says, when Sam died, she and Dante were in a relationship, and she asks if it was serious. He says, they’d been living together for a while, raising their kids together, and she says, while she was in a coma, Sam was Rocco’s mom? He says, not officially, but for all intents and purposes, and she says, Sam saved her life and Dante lost her.

Maxie asks if Dante told Lulu about Sam, but he says, it wasn’t the right time. She says, if he wants to talk about Sam, she’s here to listen, but she’s going to give him some unsolicited advice. He asks, what took so long? and she says, don’t hide his grief from Lulu. He says he has no reason to. Before the explosion, Dustin proposed. She was moving on. Maxie says, well… and we flash back to Maxie with Lulu in the hospital after the explosion. Lulu says, Dustin just died, and Maxie wants her to confess her love for Dante? Maxie says, not this minute, but soon. If she loves Dante – and she’s admitted that she does – she has to say it. She almost died and Dante would have never known how she felt. In the present, Dante is like, hello? and Maxie says she was thinking. Lulu would want him to be happy. She would understand his relationship with Sam. Don’t hide his feelings because he thinks Lulu can’t handle it. They’ve all made that mistake and it’s always a disaster. He says he’s done that and he’s going to do better for Rocco’s sake. (I don’t remember Lulu telling Maxie this, but in the article – see below – about Dustin, it says she told her mother.)

Danny’s phone dings and he says, Rocco is looking for him. What does he say? Jason tells him, say he’s happy for Rocco, and Carly says, he can still be sad and angry about his mom. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Life is complicated. We can have many emotions at the same time. Danny says, what if Rocco sees that he’s jealous? and Carly says, it’s okay. Rocco knows he’s still processing losing his mom. He says he misses her so much, and Carly hugs him. She says she’s not going to lie. Some days will be awful, and eventually the pain won’t go away completely, but the good stuff – the love and the memories – are what you’ll think about. Jason says, it’s okay to be sad and angry and confused. Just remember, he’s not alone. His dad is here and always will be.

Molly says she wants to be alone, and Ric says he’ll always be here for her, if she wants him in her life. She says she wants him in her life, but not right now, and he says fair enough. He’ll call her tomorrow. She says she might not answer, but he says he’s still going to call, and he leaves.

Natalia says, it’s clear Sonny’s support is what’s getting Kristina through, and he says he gives Alexis credit. She says, of course (🍷), but Kristina knows he’ll be there, no matter what. Meanwhile, both of her kids think she’s incapable of giving them what they need. He takes her hand and says, don’t give up. Fight for your kids. That’s the most important thing.

Lulu asks how long Dante and Sam were together, and Lucky says he thinks it’s been a couple years. She says, so they were really in love. That’s it. That’s what she saw in Dante. She couldn’t name it because she’s never seen him in love with anyone else, but that was it. The look in his eyes was grief over losing the woman he loved.

Maxie tells Dante that she can’t wait to see Lulu, to talk to her and hear her talk back. She’ll wait until tomorrow. Don’t worry. Dante says, remember, she’s been through a lot. His son has his mom back and he’s so thankful for that.

Laura tells Anna, the dock situation has been dealt with. The Cyrus situation has been dealt with. Her phone rings, and Lucky says, Lulu is here at her apartment. She asks if Lulu is all right, and he says, Lulu’s impatient to see her. Otherwise, she’s perfect, like always. Laura says she’s on her way, and tells Anna, she’s home. She’s got to go. Anna says, go… go, and she jets.

Jason tells Danny that he knows it’s not going to be easy. There will be a lot of ups and downs. He knows Danny’s mom would want him to live his best life. If he can do that, he’ll make her so proud. Danny thanks him and says he should go find Rocco. He leaves and Carly says, he’s such a good kid. And Jason is such a great father. Jason’s phone rings, and Anna says she needs to see him. Can he come to her apartment? He asks, what’s going on? and she says, they have to find Valentin right now.

Tomorrow, Laura sees Lulu; TJ says he and Molly are taking a break; and Jason says he’s as much to blame as Anna is.

💎 Girls’ Weekend Out…

I’m loving Boz. Are they going to be fighting? Are different people going to be fighting? Am I going to be fighting? Kyle consistently works my last nerve, with Dorit coming in a close second. The two of them clashing on a weekly basis is giving me a headache. Mauricio paid a visit to Kyle, who showed him some updates she was making to the house. I swear he was high. Dude just wants to party, and Kyle lives under the delusion that they’ll be getting back together when his six-month lease is up. I actually think, unless he finds some other unsuspecting soul to take care of him, he’ll want Kyle to look after him in his old age. Hopefully, by then she’ll have gotten a clue and moved on.

Erika wondered why Garcelle didn’t marry Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, or Sean Penn since she dated them, and also made it clear that she was envious of Jennifer Tilly’s high-end luggage. Methinks she’s missing the accoutrements that came with being married to Tom. Maybe she should learn to play poker. Or marry someone involved with a hit TV show. Speaking of Toms, Kathy had a girls’ weekend where the hotel was next to a house where Top Gun was filmed, and they had a photo op with a Tom Cruise lookalike. Good times…

How Jennifer can afford that Vuitton boat.

Once again, dog poop was the great leveler, as Sai discovered, stepping in some inside her home. Yep. Been there. They don’t care who you are or how much money you have.

For whatever reason, the recaps for RHONY seem to come out the day after, but the second half of the episode revolved around Racquel and Mel’s engagement party, which was a lavish affair with a ballroom theme. Not the waltz kind, but the queer culture kind, originating from drag balls hosted by Black men. I can’t think of a better theme to center a big party around.

The first half had a more somber note, and I have to admit that I feel a little guilty for not liking Brynn after hearing her sexual assault story. It made me remember that people usually have a reason for behaving the way they do. She’s certainly a better woman than I would be in this situation.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Portia asks if Elizabeth has heard from Austin. He was supposed to be in at 10 am and they haven’t heard from him yet. He’s never been late like this. Elizabeth says, no one has heard from him. She left him a voicemail and she texted him a few times. Still nothing. Portia says, could be a flat tire, a broken phone… Can she keep trying? Elizabeth says she will, and Finn approaches Portia. He asks her to sign off on the treatment he’s prescribing for a new patient.

There’s a knock at Sam’s door and she opens it to Sonny, who says, hi, neighbor. She says she can’t get used to calling him that, and he says he likes living down the hall from his son and grandson. Is Dante around? She says, of course (🍷), and invites him in. He asks how her Thanksgiving was, and she says, it was different. Dante took the boys to a football game. He says he saw Scout at Carly’s; she was with her dad. Sam was at Alexis’s? Sam says, her, Kristina, Molly, and assorted others. Where was he? He says he and Nina had a quiet Thanksgiving at the MetroCourt, and she asks if he missed cooking. He says, yeah, but next year he’s going to do it right. He’s having a Thanksgiving feast with his kids and their kids and whoever wants to show up. She can come. She can mark it on her calendar. Dante says, he can count on that. What brings him by? Sonny says, a matter of concern.

On the phone at the hospital, Molly says she has to reschedule the 4 o’clock meeting. She needs to free up some time this afternoon. TJ comes by, and she says she managed to get a postponement on the Hamlin case. He says, she came all the way to the hospital to tell him that? but she says, no. She came to tell him that they have an appointment to find a new surrogate.

Alexis meets Laura at the PC Grill, and the maître d’ seats them. Cyrus takes notice of Laura being there.

Finn tells Portia, pretty standard diagnosis and treatment. Nothing out of the ordinary. She says she agrees with his assessment. As soon as she gets back to the office, she’ll log on and okay the treatment. He thanks her and leaves. She tells Elizabeth, that was tough, and Elizabeth says, he’s a leader in his field. It’s ridiculous that he has to have supervision to treat his patients. Portia says, just a reminder, she’s not the enemy here. Finn isn’t the only one being sued for malpractice and wrongful death. The hospital is also listed as a defendant on the suit. She has no choice. She’s just following procedure. Elizabeth apologizes and says she’s sorry if she made it seem like it was all Portia’s doing. She knows it’s not. It’s just that this whole situation is very frustrating. Portia says she knows, when her phone dings. She asks if Elizabeth can try Austin again. In the meantime, they’ll have to give his patients to other doctors. She leaves, and Elizabeth picks up the phone.

Sam tells Dante that she and Scout are running late, so he can fill her in on this matter of concern when she gets back. She calls to Scout, who comes down the stairs and asks Sonny, guess where she’s going today? Sonny says, the museum, but she says, nope. She’s meeting daddy at the MetroCourt and she’s going to interview him about his job for a report for school. Sonny says, wow. That’s a big girl assignment. Maybe when she’s finished with the report, she can show it to him. Scout says, okay, and she and Sam leave. Dante asks, what’s this matter of concern? and Sonny says, it’s about the man who tried to kill Avery’s mother.

Alexis says she’s always glad to see Laura, but she’s curious. Is this a social meeting or is this about business? Laura says, actually, it’s family related. She wanted to check in with Alexis and see how Esme is doing at her job and whether or not Alexis was still happy with her work. Alexis says, actually, she is. She’s proven to be competent, organized, and efficient. She works well with the other departments and manages to stay 10 steps ahead of Alexis, which is not easy. She even asked for a raise, and Alexis gave it to her because she earned it. Laura says she’s so happy to hear this. Esme is about to move out on her own and Laura is about to sign the lease tomorrow, but she just wanted to know Esme was going to be employed in the near future. Alexis says, unless something changes, she doesn’t see why not. She’s wondering about Spencer though. He’s so attached to Ace, she’s worried about how he’ll handle Esme and Ace leaving. Laura says, so is she.

Molly tells TJ that the matching professional called her this morning. She asked how they were doing after Andrea’s miscarriage. She informed Molly that Andrea doesn’t want to try again, which she explained she already knew, but then she asked if they wanted to move forward with a new surrogate. The other women they interviewed were both successfully matched with other couples, but the matching professional had some other candidates she felt might work well for them. He says, so Molly told her yes when the matching professional asked if they wanted to try again without asking him.

Elizabeth goes to Finn’s office, and he says he just wants to finish this email reminding Portia to sign off on the treatment he’s recommending. It’s a good thing it’s not an emergency, or his patient would be dead by the time he finished all this paperwork. He finishes and says, okay. What can he do for her? She says she wants him to close his eyes and take a breath, and he asks if she thinks this is really a good time for yoga. She tells him that it’s a breathing exercise, and takes his hands. She says, close your eyes, and he does. She wants him to breathe in for a count of four, hold it for two, and breathe out for five. He asks if she’s going to keep track, and she says she’ll count for him. Ready? Breathe in, 2…3…4. Hold, 1…2. Out, 2…3…4…5. One more time. She repeats the exercise, and he says he’s not complaining at all, but what’s that supposed to accomplish? She says, it’s supposed to push all that anger and frustration out of his head and clear everything out, so he can actually hear her when she tells him this. He did nothing wrong.

Sam and Scout meet Drew at the MetroCourt, and he says he’s so excited to tell Scout about what he does at work. It’s going to be fun. He shows her a picture of her swimming plaque on his phone and says he looks at it every day. She asks if he likes it, and he says he loves it. She says her teacher said she should record the interview, so she doesn’t forget when she writes her report. She asks if that’s okay with him, and he says, of course (🍷) it’s okay. He gives her permission to record their conversation. She can asks him anything she wants. She says she’s ready to start, and he says, ask away. She says, what is the name of the company he works for? and he says, it’s Aurora Media. He works there, but he also owns it. Scout says, for how long? and he says, for six years. He and her mom bought another man’s business and then they renamed it Aurora. Scout asks why he made this company, and he says he and her mom wanted to build something for her. They wanted to have a company Scout would be really proud of and would maybe work at someday if she wanted to.

Dante says, Sonny knows he can’t discuss an active investigation, but Sonny says he’s not asking for anything privileged. Can Dante at least tell him how long before Mason Gatlin is transferred to Pentenville? Dante says he guesses when the doctors clear him, and Sonny asks when that’s going to be. Dante says, could be any day, and Sonny says he’s assuming the DA is going to make him some kind of plea deal. Dante says he doesn’t know what Robert’s plans are with this case. Why is Sonny so curious? Sonny says he doesn’t want Scorpio to let Mason off so easy. If it were up to him, Mason would be in prison for life; throw away the key. Dante says he agrees, but the theory is, Mason was working for somebody. He didn’t order Ava’s kidnapping. They’re pushing him to get the name of his boss. Sonny says, don’t waste his time. He can tell Dante right now who’s responsible for Ava’s kidnapping.

Laura tells Alexis that because Nikolas disappeared the way he did, Spencer took on a role in Ace’s life that was more like a father than a brother. So naturally, he’d want Ace to continue to live in the same house. Alexis says, obviously, he reconsidered, and Laura says, he absolutely did. He’s still very sad about it, but he’s not angry about it anymore. He’s not even fighting it. Alexis says she’s sure it had something to do with Trina, and Laura says, yes. She’s heard Trina’s a very good influence on him. Alexis says, that’s not an easy feat. She knows her family and how stubborn they can be… fatally when they actually make up their mind. And Spencer gave every indication that he was heading down that path. Laura says she actually gives Spencer a lot of credit here. She thinks he’s matured an awful lot. In part because of the role he’s played in Ace’s life. He had to put somebody else’s needs ahead of his own, so that’s made him more thoughtful and a little less impulsive. But to be honest, there aren’t many men his age who would take interest in a newborn baby brother. Alexis says, good for Spencer, and Laura says, good for him. He’s no longer the grandchild she’s most worried about. Alexis says she assumes Laura is referring to Charlotte, and Laura nods.

Molly tells TJ that she didn’t commit to another surrogate, just to entertaining more candidates. The matching professional is going to meet them at the Port Charles Grill this afternoon for a preliminary discussion. He asks why she didn’t tell him, and she says she just had the conversation this morning and she is telling him right now. He says, this is happening too fast for him. He’s still processing the loss of their baby Andrea was carrying. It wasn’t just a hypothetical; it was real. They had hopes for it. They had dreams for it. They were only a few weeks off from knowing if they were going to have a son or a daughter, and he didn’t even realize how emotionally invested he’d become, and he doesn’t know when he’s going to be up for making that kind of emotional investment again. He just knows he’s not ready now. His phone beeps and he says he has to go. He’ll see her tonight. He leaves and she flashes back to Alexis telling her that she’s here for them, whatever they need.

Finn says he wants to believe he did nothing wrong, and Elizabeth says, he didn’t. He says he keeps going over it in his head. Is there anything he missed? Was there some little thing that could have saved Muldoon’s life? She says, what’s the first hardest lesson any doctor has to learn? and he says, we’re not God. She says, right, and it’s not just doctors who think that. Sometimes it’s the patients too. They want to believe, they need to believe, doctors have all the answers, that there’s a medicine or treatment out there that’s going to give them their life back. But they both know medicine doesn’t work like that. You run tests, you make a diagnosis, prescribe treatment, and you hope it’s the right one. Between what Mr. Muldoon told him and the tests Finn ran, he provided the best treatment possible. She knows that and she’s going to keep reminding him until he knows that too. He says he wouldn’t dream of arguing with her, when there’s a knock at the door. Finn opens it, and a woman tells him that she’s DeeDee Clark. She’s representing General Hospital in the Muldoon malpractice lawsuit.

Scout says, last question. What is Drew’s favorite part of his job? Drew says, nobody’s ever asked him that before. That’s a very good question. He thinks his favorite part of the job is knowing Aurora entertains people as well as informs them. And also that Aurora is a really great place to work. People have good jobs with good benefits and are treated with respect. Scout says, thank you for your time, Mr. Cain, and he says, you’re welcome, Miss Cain. All this interviewing made him thirsty. What if they ask the waitress for some drinks? How about three ginger ales? Scout says she’ll go get them, and leaves. Drew asks if Sam thought he was too preachy, and she says she thinks Scout asked him some honest questions and he gave her some honest answers. He says, she took it so seriously. Maybe she has a future in journalism. Sam says, she could have gotten it from Alexis, and Scout comes back. She tells them, the drinks are coming, and Drew says, in the meantime, he has some big news for Scout.

Dr. Navarro sees Molly and says, this is a nice surprise. Molly says, it’s good to see her, and the doctor says she was told Molly’s surrogate suffered a miscarriage. She’s so sorry. Molly says, of course (🍷) they’re disappointed, and Dr. Navarro says she didn’t mean to upset Molly, but she should know miscarriages are always a risk in the first trimester. Does she think she and TJ will try again?

Finn invites Clark in and introduces Elizabeth, saying, she was recently named head nurse at General Hospital. Clark says, nice to meet her and congratulations on her promotion. Elizabeth thanks her, and Clark says, since Elizabeth is already here, did she have any involvement or interaction with Mr. Muldoon? Elizabeth says she’s sure she was here when he was a patient, but she doesn’t recall having any personal interaction with him. Clark says her team will be doing a comprehensive records check. So if it turns out Elizabeth had any involvement with Mr. Muldoon, they may need to interview her in the future. But right now, she’s here to speak to Dr. Finn. Elizabeth says, understood, and tells Finn that she’ll talk to him later. She leaves, and Finn asks Clark to have a seat. He says, before they begin, he’s been advised to retain his own separate counsel, and she says, as he should. His attorney will focus on his defense. She represents the hospital, but his actions with regard to diagnosis and treatment of Mr. Muldoon will directly affect her defense. That’s why she’s here. And she apologizes in advance if any of her questions seem intrusive, but the key to defending a malpractice suit is having all the information, so that there are no surprises in the courtroom.

Laura says she also wanted to thank Alexis for the discretion The Invader showed in reporting the shooting. Alexis gave all the facts and managed to leave out Anna and Charlotte’s names. Alexis says, first of all, Charlotte, the victim, is a minor, so she’s protected. And Anna has been so unfairly treated by The Sun, she just wanted to protect Anna’s privacy. Laura says she’s so grateful Alexis made that call. When she was elected, she had to learn how to deal with the media scrutiny. She thinks she’s developed a tougher shell, then reads one of these opinion articles about herself, and it’s just absolutely brutal sometimes. Cyrus brings out a tray of glasses, and Laura says, she’d never want Charlotte to be exposed to anything like that, and it’s the last thing that Anna needs. Just having to live with the fact that she knows she shot a child. Laura can’t imagine the guilt she must be feeling. (I can’t imagine talking about this with Cyrus within earshot, especially when Laura just got done saying how great it was names were left out. Erg. And I have no doubt he’s listening.) Alexis says, in truth, if the circumstances were different, she would have had a searing op ed written about gun violence. If someone as trained and skilled as Anna Devane could shoot an innocent person by accident, what better argument is there against carrying guns? (How about the argument against rooting around someone else’s apartment in the dark?) Cyrus drops the tray of glasses, and they shatter. He glances at Laura before bending down to pick up the pieces.

TJ says he can take some of Austin’s patients, and Portia says, that would be perfect. She also called Dr. Park. He should be here soon. Elizabeth says she called Austin again. Still no answer. She left a message. Portia asks, what about the texts? but Elizabeth says she got nothing. Portia asks if they checked when he was last on duty, and Elizabeth says she did. It was two days before Thanksgiving. He had the holiday off and he was due back this morning. Portia says, still, it could be anything. He could have car trouble, or his phone could be dead. Elizabeth asks if Portia wants her to go to his apartment and check on him, and Portia says she doesn’t want to ask Elizabeth to do that, but Elizabeth says she’s volunteering, and leaves.

Dante says, Mason Gatlin is working for Cyrus Renault? and Sonny says, that’s right. Dante asks how long he’s known, and Sonny says, since the day Cyrus was released from Pentenville. Does he remember Avery’s temporary nanny, Betty? Dante says, yeah. He was wondering why Sonny moved on from Pilar. Sonny says, because he knew Betty was a plant. Mason used her to spy on him, so he got Brick to dummy up the computer and put in false information. She stole the information, took it to Austin, and Austin delivered it to Cyrus at Pentenville. Dante says, hold on. Austin Gatlin-Holt was in on this too? Sonny says, it looks like Austin and his cousin Mason have been working for Cyrus all along, and Dante says, dammit. He takes Austin’s card out of his wallet and calls. A man answers, and Dante asks who he’s speaking to. The man asks who he’s speaking to, and Dante says he asked first, but Detective Falconari from the Port Charles Police Department. The man says, nice to meet you, detective. Paul Brisco with the Pautuck PD. Why is he calling? Dante says he’s trying to get ahold of Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt. He’s on staff here at General Hospital in Port Charles. Brisco says he’s sorry to inform Dante, Austin Gatlin-Holt is dead. (Boo! Hiss!)

Clark asks how Mr. Muldoon became Finn’s patient, and Finn says his daughter Violet and Mr. Muldoon’s daughter are in the same class at school. They were at a parent gathering, and Mr. Muldoon mentioned he traveled abroad for business, and he was feeling under the weather and he may have contracted something along the lines of a tapeworm. He recommended Mr. Muldoon come in and make an appointment with him here at General Hospital, and he agreed. Clark asks if he came to see Finn, and Finn says, he did. She asks, how soon after his initial conversation with Mr. Muldoon did Finn examine him?

Scout says she’s glad Drew’s office is here so they can come to the restaurant. Should she put that in her report? He says, it’s her report. She gets to decide what she puts in there. It’s good training in case she decides to become a journalist. She gets to decide what to put in her story and what she doesn’t. Sam says, if their daughter isn’t going to ask him about his good news, she will. What’s going on? He says he closed a deal with Steve Harris, and she asks if she should be familiar with that name. Drew says, he works in venture capital. He has a daughter a little bit older than Scout who attends Westwood Academy. Sam says, that’s that fancy private school, and he says, yeah. Steve’s on the board, and he told Steve about Scout and convinced him to open a spot for her, so Scout can go to Westwood too.

Molly tells Dr. Navarro that she always knew miscarriage was a possibility, but she wasn’t prepared emotionally. The doctor says, no one ever is. What are her thoughts about moving forward? Molly says, Andrea, their surrogate, made it very clear that she does not want to try again. So if they decide to move forward, they’ll have to start from scratch. Dr. Navarro says she knows it will set them back a few more months, but she’s sure Molly and TJ will find a suitable candidate. Molly says, honestly, she’s not sure they can go through this again, and the doctor says, it’s very understandable. It’s a decision only Molly and TJ can make, but while miscarriages are not uncommon, many, many surrogacies have been successful. There are lots of parents in the world, lots of people in the world, who prove that surrogacy can work. She wishes Molly and TJ the best, whatever path they choose going forward, and she leaves.

Dante thanks Brisco for the update, and Sonny says, sounded serious. Dante says, it was, but he can tell Sonny about it, because he’ll hear about it soon enough. Austin Gatlin-Holt is dead. Sonny asks if he knows how it happened, and Dante says, he was shot to death in a house in Pautuck. Does Sonny know anything about it? Sonny asks why he would know about it. He doesn’t know anyone in Pautuck. Dante says, unless Sonny arranged for it to happen, and Sonny says, Dante has known him long enough. Dante knows how he works. If he’s going to arrange for Austin to be dead, they’re not going to find his body because it will be in the Pine Barrons. And the last thing he’s going to do is come here and talk to his son the detective. Dante has to give him a little more credit than that. Dante says he’s relieved Sonny didn’t do it, but now he has to find out who did. Sonny says, no, he doesn’t.

Cyrus cleans up the glass, and the maître d’ says, if the tray is too heavy, than make two trips. Cyrus says, got it, and the wicked stepmother maître d’ says, the cost of the broken glass will come out of your paycheck. Now finish the clean-up. (Geez. A little tough on him for a place that’s supposed to be sympathetic to ex-cons.) Cyrus says, yes, sir, and Alexis tells Laura, either he doesn’t know who his new dishwasher is, or that maître d’ has a death wish.

Sam says she and Drew never discussed Scout going to a private school, and Drew says, it’s a great opportunity. Sam says she knows. Kristina went to Westwood. She remembers her mom having to do backflips to get her in. Not to mention, Sonny had to give a talk with them to get her accepted. It’s really expensive, but he could afford it. Drew says, so can he, and she says she believes the acceptance rate is 7% or something, and there’s an epic waiting list. Is Scout just going to jump to the front of the line? He says, there’s a big waiting list because it’s a great school. And it turns out there’s a student in Scout’s class that had to leave, so Scout can just slide right in there and start right after Christmas break. What does Scout say? It’s an amazing school. It’s all girls and they have one of the best swim teams in the state. She’s going to be able to study so many more subjects than she did at public school, and as she gets a bit older, they even have a study abroad program. Looking less than thrilled, Scout asks if he wants her to go there, and he says, all he’s ever wanted for her is the best life possible. Westwood is a great step up. He thinks she’s going to love it. What does she say? Scout says, okay, daddy, and I want to smack Drew. Probably Sam does too.

Dante tells Sonny, Austin lived and worked in Port Charles. It’s his duty to investigate, but Sonny says, Dante just told him that Austin was shot in Pautuck, the same place where Dante shot his cousin Mason. Dante says, it was in the line of duty, and Sonny asks if it isn’t going to be a conflict of interest for him to investigate Austin’s death. Shouldn’t that fall on the cops in Pautuck? Dante says, if he was running lead investigator, it would be a conflict of interest, but it’s not because Austin was murdered in Pautuck, so the Pautuck PD will run lead. But because, like he said, Austin lived and worked in Port Charles, he and the PCPD have to share information. Sonny could save them a lot of time and effort if he’d tell Dante who he suspects. Sonny says, it’s the same person Dante suspected all along – Cyrus Renault. He tells Dante that he has to go, and leaves.

Cyrus finishes sweeping up the glass, and Alexis tells Laura that she’s surprised an upscale place like the Port Charles Grill would hire an ex-con like Cyrus. Laura says, maybe the manager here believes in second chances, and Alexis asks if she thinks he can be reformed. Laura says she just had this conversation with her other brother Martin, and she’ll tell Alexis what she told him. It is entirely possible Cyrus hasn’t changed a bit and this turn toward God is just a big act, but she believes in second chances. So until Cyrus has proven himself to be a threat, she’s going to stand by her own principles and say her brother deserves a second chance, just like everybody else. Alexis thanks Laura for lunch, and they leave. Cyrus watches them go down the block from inside the restaurant.

TJ tells Portia that he checked on Austin’s patients and they’re all doing fine. They shouldn’t need to be checked on until he makes his rounds. Portia thanks him, and tells him that she hates to say this, but she may have to ask him to stay late to cover. He says, actually, the timing couldn’t be better, and she asks what that means. He says he and Molly had a difference of opinion on whether they should look for a new surrogate, and it’s not a conversation he wants to have right now. So if he can bury himself in work instead… bring it on. Elizabeth comes back and says she really needs to talk to Portia. TJ says, not a problem. He’s got more patients to see. He leaves, and Elizabeth tells Portia that she went to Austin’s apartment. No one was there, but there was food delivery sitting outside his door. She looked at the receipt and it had been delivered on Thanksgiving Day. Clearly, he never brought it inside. Portia says, now she’s starting to get concerned, and Elizabeth says she found the super and explained the situation. He let her in. No sign of him. In fact, it looked like Austin hadn’t been there since before Thanksgiving. Portia says, what? and Elizabeth asks if Portia is thinking what she’s thinking. Should they call the police?

On the phone walking to the elevator, Drew tells Steve that he has an update on his daughter. He spoke to Scout and her mom about Westwood Academy and they’re all for it… Yes. So let’s pick out a time when we can move forward and talk about Scout getting admitted.

Sam and Scout arrive home, and Sam says she knows Scout needs to write her report about dad’s job, but did she have any other homework to finish up? Scout says, no, just the report, and Sam says she was thinking maybe they could take a drive over to Westwood Academy and see what it looks like on the outside. What does she think? Scout just gives her a sad look, and Sam says, they could go by Kelly’s and get some hot chocolate. Scout says she doesn’t want to go to that school, and Sam puts Scout in her lap and strokes her hair.

Molly goes into the PC Grill and tells the maître d’ that she’s meeting someone, but they’re not here yet. She said the reservation should be under her name, Claire Brown.

Finn says, Mr. Muldoon came to visit him about a week after their conversation, and Clark asks what kind of symptoms he complained about. Finn says, he had some G.I. distress, weight loss, general fatigue, and she says, anything else? Finn says, he complained about some dizziness, but it hadn’t gotten as far as fainting, and she asks how Finn treated him. Finn says he ran some bloodwork and a culture. The tests came back with low hemoglobin and elevated white blood cell count, and the culture came back positive for a tapeworm. He treated him for the tapeworm and Mr. Muldoon called a few days later saying he was feeling much better. He also requested Mr. Muldoon come in for a follow-up just in case. Clark says, just in case what? and he says, it’s standard procedure to make sure the patient was properly treated, but Mr. Muldoon refused, saying he had to go on another business trip. She says, then what? and he says, Mr. Muldoon came in two months later, at which time he ran further bloodwork and a colonoscopy. At that time, he discovered Mr. Muldoon had cancer. She asks, what happened then? and he says he referred Mr. Muldoon to oncology. Unfortunately, it was already Stage IV. Mr. Muldoon passed away shortly after. She asks if any of the symptoms Mr. Muldoon complained about in his first visit signs for cancer? Finn doesn’t say anything, and she says, when Mr. Muldoon initially told Finn about his symptoms, did he ever think it might be cancer? Finn says, before he answers any more questions, he thinks he’d like his lawyer present.

Sonny gets in his car and makes a call. He says he’s on his way to the MetroCourt. Get over there now. There’s something you need to know. He drives away.

When Dante goes into the station, the desk sergeant says he has a Detective Brisco from the Pautuck PD waiting for him. He put Brisco in the interrogation room (where all the PCPD action happens!) Dante goes in, introduces himself, and says, they spoke earlier. Brisco says, good to meet him in person, and Dante says, him as well. Brisco says, they’re requesting interdepartmental cooperation to investigate the murder of Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt.

Tomorrow, Gloria asks when Brook and Chase are getting married; Maxie says she’s in over her head and doesn’t know what to do; Finn tells Martin that he might have just made things worse; and Sonny tells Ava, every second she wastes makes it harder for him to cover her tracks.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

🥳 Welcome to a bigger font.

General Hospital

As Leo helps her prepare Thanksgiving dinner, Olivia scolds Ned for taking a bite of potatoes, but he says he prefers to look at it as quality control. She says she told him to stay out of the kitchen. It’s almost time to eat. He asks if he should rally the troops, but she tells him that she said, almost. Besides, they’re still waiting on the man of the hour.

Dante thanks Sam for going to Sonny’s, and she says, of course (🦃). He says, they’ll have a drink and maybe one or two appetizers, and she says, Sonny is his family, which means he’s her family too. They’re a package deal, remember? He says he doesn’t forget anything when it comes to her, and they kiss.

Inside the penthouse, Nina says, that tahini sauce smells like heaven, and Sonny says, not like Thanksgiving? She says, Thanksgiving is what we make it, and he says he’s switching gears this year. He asks if she can grab the watch out of his pocket, and she asks when he lost the feeling in his hands. She reaches into his pocket and takes out a jewelry box. She hands it to him, but he tells her to open it. She says, it’s for her? and opens it, revealing a pair of earrings. He says, no, it’s for him; he’s trying out a new look. He just wants to thank her for being here and changing his life. She says, he could have just said that, but he says he wanted to show her. She thanks him, and says, they’re beautiful; she loves them. He says, and he loves her, and they kiss.

Carly finds Drew making a drink in the Quartermaine sitting room, and he says, she looks beautiful. She says, he’s not so bad himself, and he says, she smells amazing too. Does she have any idea how much he’d like to drag her out of here, and kiss her until she can’t breathe? She says she’s game if he is, when Michael walks in with Willow, and says, happy Thanksgiving.

Brook lets Chase in, and he gives her a bottle of wine. She says, no pie? but he says, they were sold out. She thanks him for the wine, and he asks if she has anything for him.

Laura comes into the station, and asks Jordan if there are any updates. Jordan says, Laura should be resting after the night she had, but Laura says she’s fine. Holly didn’t hurt her, and even called Doc so she’d be found quickly. Ashby appears, and says, how considerate, but Holly does get demerits for holding Laura at gunpoint. Laura says, Ashby didn’t have to give up her holiday to be here, but Ashby says she’d like to be kept in the loop. Robert says, what an understatement, when Alexis walks in. She says, Jordan summoned her? What could Jordan possibly need from her on Thanksgiving? Jordan says, a reason not to arrest her.

In a cabin, Holly listens to a newscaster say, the police are actively looking for a suspect who kidnapped Mayor Collins last night. She’s in possession of valuable jewels, and considered armed and dangerous. She takes out the necklace, and looks at it, saying, it looks like they have something in common; they’re both damn near indestructible. She holds it up to her neck. I really wish they would remember to make the necklace seem heavier than it is IRL.

Alexis says, arrest her for what? and Jordan says, obstruction. Materially compromising this investigation by printing sensitive information in today’s Invader. Alexis says she gave Jordan a chance to comment before publication, but Jordan says, Alexis had no business naming Esme Prince as an official suspect in the Hook slayings. Alexis says, Jordan promised her an exclusive and didn’t deliver.

Mac says, they’re tracking the GPS on the mayor’s car, and Ashby asks if he knows where Holly is headed. Laura says she got a call today from the County Administrator. They wanted a status report, and she hasn’t been able to call him back. Could Ashby handle that for her? Ashby says, certainly, and leaves. Robert asks, how much longer do they have to tolerate that traitorous individual in their midst? and Laura says, long enough for her to be useful in helping them incriminate Victor. Now tell her where he thinks Holly is.

Holly is now wearing the necklace, and rubs her arms to get warm. She checks out the little stove, and (I think) a space heater.

Leo asks if it’s someone they know, or a stranger, and Ned says, or is it someone they know of; a celebrity. Olivia says, they’re so off-base, and Ned says, then just tell them who this mystery guest is. She says, and essentially, completely ruin the surprise, and Ned and Leo both say, yes. She asks, where’s the excitement in that? but Ned says, don’t worry. This holiday is never short of excitement. Leo says, something always happens on Thanksgiving, but Olivia says, not this time. No siree. She’s taken every precaution. Leo tells her that she says that every year, and she says, mark her words; this Thanksgiving is going off exactly according to plan.

Michael thanks Carly for doing this. He knows the last place she wants to be is anywhere near Ned right now. Carly says, Wiley wants her here, so she’s here, and Willow says, she’s such a wonderful grandma… Not that she looks like a grandma. Carly says she loves the flattery, but Willow says she speaks the truth. Michael asks if Josslyn is coming, but Carly says, she and Trina are volunteering at a soup kitchen, she she’ll have to pass on pizza this year. Drew says, don’t let Olivia hear her say that. She’s determined to serve a turkey this year. Michael says, Olivia should know that’s impossible, but Carly says she admires Olivia’s optimism. Although she thinks the kids would prefer pizza. Where are they? Drew says, upstairs in the family room; there’s a major arts and crafts thing going on. Michael says he’s glad this Thanksgiving will hold better memories for Drew, and Drew says, him too. Carly asks if it’s really been a year, and Drew says, since he came back, yeah, and broke the news about Jason.

Brook tells Chase, this day is really about giving, not receiving, but she has something for him. She kisses him, and he flashes back to Dante telling him about the letter Brook said she’d write to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, and saying that she hadn’t done it yet. He says, that’s it? and she says, mind out of the gutter, mister. This is a family event. They’ll get to the rest later.

Nina puts on the earrings, and tells Sonny that she loves them. He says, they look beautiful, and she thanks him. She asks how he is, really. It must be hard for him to be away from his girls. He says he spent time with them last night. Their faces lighting up when they saw the parade balloons, and their eyes got all big. She says, but what about him? His old house and old traditions? Doesn’t he miss them? He says, this is his house, and with her in it, that makes it his home. So what does she say? Does she want to make some new traditions with him? She says she’d love nothing more, and they kiss.

Jordan tells Alexis, she had every intention of holding up her end of the agreement, but not at the expense of a sensitive investigation, and it doesn’t get more sensitive than this. Lives are at stake. Alexis says, which is why she brought the letter to Jordan’s attention in the first place. They both have a duty to the city, and she’s not apologizing for fulfilling hers. She’s sorry Jordan has to work tonight, but she has a Thanksgiving dinner she needs to go to. She flounces out.

Laura points to the screen, and says, so her car is somewhere in this vicinity? There’s not much out there. Robert says, the theory is, she abandoned the car outside the woods, then continued on foot, and Laura says, she could be anywhere. Mac says he has officers on the scene in Baylor Woods. One of them found a well with drinking water. Laura says, then there must be a house or building nearby, and Mac says, that’s the assumption. Ashby messes with her phone, and sees there’s a residence in Baylor Woods. Laura walks over, and asks if she managed to get in touch with the County Administrator. Ashby says she relayed the relevant information, which answers that question not at all, and it looks like Laura knows it.

Sonny thanks Sam and Dante for stopping by, and Sam says, of course (🦃). They wanted to see him. Dante says, the walk down the hall is pretty grueling. Maybe Sonny could move closer. Sasha and Gladys arrive, and Sonny says he’s glad they came by. Gladys says, as if she’d miss a traditional Thanksgiving, but Sonny says he’s doing things different this year. Gladys says, she can tell, and Sasha says she’s sure it will be delicious. Nina says she’s glad Dante and Sam could make it. Is their friend Cody coming? Dante says he didn’t invite Cody. He’s not into social gatherings. Nina says, he’s not alone in that, and excuses herself. Dante tells Sam, out with it, and she says, out with what? He says, whatever’s going on in that beautiful head of hers, and she says she’s just wondering if it’s social gatherings Cody doesn’t like, or questions. He asks where this is coming from, but she tells him, forget she said anything. He says he can’t now. It’s not the first time she’s thrown shade Cody’s way. Dante thought she thought Cody was a good guy. What changed?

Carly looks out the window, and Drew asks if she’s okay. She says, she was just thinking about Jason, and everything that’s happened since. He says, it’s been quite a year, and she says, that’s an understatement. He says, but she made it, and she says, if someone had told her she’d have to go through what she went through, and do it without Jason, she would have said it was impossible. He says, but look at her now. Not only is she still standing, she’s thriving, and stronger than ever. She says, no small thanks to him.

Brook goes into the sitting room, and asks, what’s with the mood in here? Michael says, there’s no mood, but she says she’s sensing a mood. Carly says, they were just talking about the anniversary of Drew’s homecoming, and Willow says, a blessing to everybody. Michael says, a moment to remember for sure, and Brook says, especially Drew at the door holding pizzas. It was quite an eventful Thanksgiving. Remember? Chase clocking Valentin? Chase says, the first time he lost his badge.

Ned says, they won’t stop asking, and Leo says, or guessing. Olivia says, all right. She ordered a turkey from Dinde Vivante. It’s a French company with a local farm. They have only the finest, most organic turkeys; fresh as they come. And get this. It comes completely roasted, ready to eat. What could be better than that? Ned tells her, it almost sounds too good to be true, but Olivia says, that’s the point. It is not too good to be true; it is true. She’s not taking any chances this year. Ned says, so a turkey is the man of the hour? How does she even know it’s a male bird? Leo says, male turkeys are bald, and Olivia says, male turkeys are also bigger than female turkeys, which makes it exactly perfect to feed this whole big crazy family of ours. Ned says, Drew and Michael can eat the giblets, but Olivia says, they’re not doing any of that this year. Everyone is going to get along. Everyone is going to sing Kumbaya. Because she wants… she needs this Thanksgiving to be perfect. Ned says, then perfect it is, and kisses her. Accompanied by Michael, a man walks in, wheeling a covered crate, gobbling sounds coming from it, and Michael asks where they want it. Olivia asks, what’s that smell? and Leo says, what’s that sound? Michael says, that’s our dinner. Ned says, this is as fresh as they come, and Olivia tells the man that she most definitely didn’t order a live turkey from Dinde Vivante. He says, the company name literally means turkey alive, and she looks at the paperwork on his clipboard. She says, it’s all in French; you need a translator to read this stupid thing. Michael says, too bad Valentin’s not here, and Olivia tells the man that he needs to march this turkey right back to the farm, but he says he just delivers. No backsies. Michael says he’ll show the man out, and they leave. Olivia gets on her phone, and Ned asks if he should fire up the grill. She asks if he’s seriously making jokes right now.

Brook tells Chase, she’s sorry for bringing up Valentin; she wasn’t thinking. She knows he’s sensitive about losing his badge. He says he misses being a cop every day, and she says she knows. He says, that doesn’t mean he’s not grateful for everything she’s done for him. He is. He’s just really praying the department gives him a second chance. She says she wants what he wants, and he says, does she really?

Willow asks if Carly ended up confronting Nina, and Drew asks what she’s talking about. Carly says, now that Nina’s run out of homes to wreck, she’s taken up idle gossip. And she sure as hell did.

Sasha says, a casino buffet? Does Gladys mean a buffet at an actual casino? Gladys says she knows it sounds cheesy, but she and Mike loved it. They would get Brando all dressed up, and told him that he could eat as much as he wanted. One year, she hit it big, and they upgraded to the surf and turf. Sonny says, sounds like they had a great time, and Gladys says, they did… or maybe that’s just the way she remembers it. Maybe Brando hated being there. All the sounds and the lights and the smoke. He probably wanted to be in regular restaurant. Sasha says, Gladys did the best she could, when there’s a knock at the door. Nina goes to answer it, and Sonny says, that’s all any of them can do. Nina opens the door to Alexis, who says, sorry she’s late. She was busy defending the First Amendment. Nina says, as one does on Thanksgiving, and invites her in.

Dante and Sam kiss, and he asks if she’s trying to distract him. She asks if it’s working, and he says, maybe. She says, clearly she’s lost her touch, and he asks, what’s her problem with Cody? She says she doesn’t know. She guesses she didn’t like his reaction to her investigating Britt’s necklace. Dante says, that necklace might be Cody’s inheritance. That kid grew up nothing. He was on that estate, looking out at everything he couldn’t have. She says he’s defending his friend, and she loves him for that, but what if Cody doesn’t deserve it? I love how they act like Cody grew up so horribly. He worked in the stables, which he loves, and he even got sent to camp, so really? Oh horrors, he didn’t have designer sneakers.

Olivia says she’s going to call the chef at the MetroCourt. Maybe he can help them out. She yells to Leo not to touch that thing; it could be diseased. Leo says, only animals get rabies, and she says, it could have bird flu or something; who knows? Ned says, and she wanted to serve it to them for dinner? She looks at him, and he says, sorry; not helping. She says, one more remark from him, and she’ll stuff him in that crate with the turkey. Turning her attention back to the phone, she says, it’s Olivia. They have a little situation here, and she’s hoping he can help them out. Leo tells the turkey, they want to cook you, but don’t worry, Mr. Wattles. I won’t let that happen. The turkey gobbles, and he smiles.

Jordan asks, where’s Laura? and Mac says, getting the Deputy Mayor out of her hair. Felicia walks in with an officer, both of them carrying trays of food. She says, she knows none of them can make it to their Thanksgiving dinners, so she brought dinner to them. Mac says, she’s the best, and she says she can’t have her guy and his colleagues starving on turkey day. Laura comes back, and asks if Felicia is the Thanksgiving fairy. Mac says, his officers located a trapper’s cabin in the northwest corner of Baylor Woods, not far from the Canadian border. Robert says, footprints? and Mac says, fresh, but no vehicle. Jordan says, it’s her. She’ll call for back-up along the way. Considering Holly’s still armed… Laura says she’ll wait with Felicia for the news. And make sure this ends peacefully. Robert says, that’s the goal, and they leave. Felicia says, here we go, and Laura says, yep.

Johann walks out of the woods where the stakeout tent is, and an officer says, PCPD; state your business. Johann says, just walking off the meal. Is there an issue? The officer says, it’s off-limits, and Johann says, he heard there’s a manhunt for a jewel thief… Never mind; he’ll head back. Stay safe. He walks back into the woods, like two feet away, and takes out his phone.

Holly looks at a map, then looks out the cabin window.

Sam tells Dante, she may or may not have done some digging, and he says, and? She says, Cody has a juvenile arrest record, and he asks if she knows what for, but she says, the files are sealed. Dante says, Cody got into trouble as a kid; so did he. So what? She asks if they got into trouble together, and he says, they were wild kids. That’s why they ended up at camp. They both needed structure. She says she’s not judging anyone. She’s done her fair share of shady things, and your past definitely should not define you… He says, that’s like the biggest but he’s ever heard, and she says, however… He says, that’s the same thing, and she asks if it’s possible Cody’s issues are not as in the past as Dante thought. They hear Gladys yell, how could you? and go back to the other room. Gladys says, Alexis printed information about Brando’s killer before his family even knew. Who does that? Nina says, Gladys wasn’t informed that the PCPD consider Esme Prince they’re prime suspect? and Gladys says she sure as hell wasn’t. Dante says, that’s because they don’t have a prime suspect. That’s why they don’t want the press releasing information prematurely. It’s never a good idea.

At the tent, Jordan says, one suspect inside, and Mac says he has officers at the exits. Jordan says, the suspect is armed, and tells him to keep their people away from any windows. Mac tries to give Robert a vest, but Robert says he doesn’t need it. Mac says, put it on, and Robert says, Holly wouldn’t hurt him, but Mac asks if she hasn’t hurt him already. Holly looks out, locks the door, closes the curtains, and walks over to the space heater. Johann watches from a distance. Jordan says, Robert knows Holly best. Is she willing to die for a diamond necklace? Robert says, no, but she’d risk everything for freedom. Mac gives a bullhorn to Jordan, but Robert says, it should be him.

Brook says, something’s bothering Chase, and he says he’d like to think they’re honest with each other. She says, aren’t they? and he says, you tell me. Is there anything that’s happened recently that she hasn’t filled him in on? She says, if this is about Linc… but he says, it’s about them. He wants to be in a relationship where they have each other’s backs; where they support each other, even when it’s hard. Otherwise, what is the point?

Still on the phone, Olivia says she understands, and thanks them. Ned says, well? and she says she offered the new chef triple his normal pay to wring that turkey’s… to ready the beautiful bird. No dice. Michael asks, how hard can it be to ready a bird? and Ned says, people have been doing it since the dawn of time. He’s willing to try if Michael is. Olivia says, that’s what she’s talking about. That’s the spirit. Now it’s starting to feel like Thanksgiving. Michael says he’ll grab Drew and Chase, but Leo says, there will be no turkey today. Olivia tells him, don’t say that. She promises there will be turkey; don’t worry. Leo says he’s not worried. Now neither is Mr. Wattles. Mr. Wattles walks around on the window seat, takes a poop on it (I kid you not), and wanders off into the mansion. This is pretty funny.

Carly asks how Willow is feeling, and Willow asks what she means. Carly says, with her pregnancy, and Drew asks if Willow just forgot she’s pregnant. Willow says, sometimes she could with how amazing this little one is. It’s been a dream so far. Drew says he bets she’ll be relieved to find her birth parents. Getting as much medical history as possible is great for the baby’s sake. Willow says, that’s exactly why she’s looking for them, and he says, on that note, a reporter he knows tracked down some members of the commune to the Mohave Desert. Willow says she told him it would be a struggle, but he says, the good news is, somebody offered to help. Willow asks, who? and Carly says, me.

Brook says, she thought she and Chase supported each other, but he says, she supports the life she wants for him; not the life he actually wants. Leo runs past, telling them, there’s a turkey on the loose.

Felicia tells Laura, spill. She’s had a helluva 24 hours. How is she? Laura says she’s fine; she’s far more worried about Robert. This was the last thing he needed. He was already worried sick about Anna. Felicia says she can’t believe Holly would go this far over a necklace, but Laura says, it might be more complicated than that. Felicia says she’s sure it is, She just can’t stand it. She gets up, and walks out.

Holly loads a gun, and hears Robert say, it’s him. The place is surrounded. It’s over. There’s no escape this time. Mac says, they’ve got to go in, but Robert says, not yet. Holly calls to Robert, asking if Laura is all right. Robert says, she’s fine, and Holly asks him to apologize to her. She never wanted anyone to get hurt, especially him. He says he doesn’t want her getting hurt, and wants her to come out of there unscathed. She knows what she has to do to make that happen.

Inside the cabin, a woman puts a gun down, but I’m not so sure it’s Holly.

Sonny asks if they can all take a breath. Today is supposed to be about family and food… Gladys says, Brando was her family; her only child. He was murdered, and now Alexis is helping the killer get away with it. Alexis says, actually, she intended for the opposite to be true. She’s truly sorry Gladys was caught off-guard. She thought Gladys would be aware of Esme. Gladys says she was not, and Sasha says, at least the police have a credible lead. Dante says, they’ll get justice for Brando, and Sonny says, whatever it takes. She has his word.

From outside the house, everyone looks into the Nook, where Mr. Wattles has taken over and is tearing up the place. Ned says, behold. The pièce de resistance. Olivia says she can’t believe this is happening, and Willow asks, what is happening? Michael says, Olivia ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving, and it arrived alive and well. Chase says, and strong, as Mr. Wattles jumps onto the table. Carly says, this dinner is for the birds, and Olivia says she’s glad they find it so amusing. She’s not laughing. Another Thanksgiving totally ruined. Brook says she gives Olivia a lot of credit. Many have tried in the past, not the least great grandmother Lila, but at some point, you’ve just got to accept it’s tradition. Drew says, Monica is going to love this story, and Ned says, at least there’s still pie. Carly says, and stuffing, and Michael says, and cranberry sauce. Mr. Wattles pulls the tablecloth off the table, things crashing to the floor, and Olivia says, but they need a main course. Ned says, there is an easy fix, and everyone says, Luigi’s. Mr. Wattles steps through the wreckage, and moves on.

Brook wonders why they can’t have a normal Thanksgiving for once, and Chase says he needs to ask her something, and he needs an honest answer. Leo comes in, says, pizza’s here, and runs out again. Brook says she’s starving, and starts to leave, but Chase stops her, and asks, was she ever going to tell him about the CCRB letter she never wrote?

Olivia walks into the sitting room with the pizza, and asks where Brook and Chase are. The pizza is going to get cold. Leo says he told them, but they were talking close. Everyone goes, ooh, and Ned says, to be young and in love. Olivia says, watch it. They are still both of those things. He says, now and forever, and Drew looks at Carly. Michael reaches for a slice, but Olivia says, he knows the rules. They all say, first we sing, then we eat, and Olivia says, they’re going to get one thing right this Thanksgiving, so help her. Drew reaches behind him, and takes Carly’s hand so no one sees.

Sam says, her mom couldn’t get out fast enough, and Dante says, can Sam blame her? She says, not the most festive Thanksgiving, but he says, it’s his favorite one yet. She asks, why? and he says, he gets to spend it with the person he loves, who he shares his home and life with. She says, and his toiletries. She can’t believe how good his new hand lotion smells. He tells her to keep her hands off his stuff, and she says, all his stuff? but he says, actually she has full access to all his stuff. She says, that’s what she thought, and they kiss. She asks if he’s ready for some pizza, and he says he wouldn’t put it past his mother to have made a turkey. Sam says she wants some pepperoni.

Sasha looks out the window, remembering when she married Brando. Sonny asks how she’s holding up, and she says she’s okay. Another first in the books. She got through a whole year after Liam, and now she gets to do it all over again with Brando. He says, she doesn’t have to do it alone, and she says she knows, and she’s so grateful. Gladys says she’s got to make a phone call; she’ll be right back. Sasha tells Sonny that she knows Brando would want her to embrace life, even when it hurts; maybe especially then. He’d want her to be with family. Nina listens from the doorway, and Sonny says, Sasha is welcome here. As far as Gladys, is she still hands-on? What’s going on? Sasha says, always for her benefit. She feels like she and Gladys finally understand each other.

On her phone, pacing in the hallway, Gladys looks at the card Selina gave her. She says she’s having a rough day and could use a little fun. When is the next game?… Great. Count her in for a seat at the table.

We hear the Quartermaines sing We Gather Together, while the family interacts in the sitting room, laughing and hugging. Carly finds a big feather, shows it to Olivia, and they hug. They eat, and Drew and Carly exchange glances.

A woman picks up a briefcase in the cabin, leaving the gun, and knocking over a lantern. On the bullhorn, Jordan says, Holly Sutton, this is your last chance. Come out with your hands visible. The lantern starts a fire inside, and Jordan says she doesn’t like this. She tells Mac to give the order to move in, but Robert says, give her a chance. Jordan says, she’s had multiple chances. Time’s up. There’s an explosion inside the cabin, sending debris everywhere. The cabin burns, and Robert says he has to get in, but Mac holds him back. Robert says, Holly could be hurt, and a woman runs out of the cabin, totally on fire. She falls on her face, and Robert cries, no!

I have my doubts it’s Holly. I’m thinking Ashby, and that briefcase is empty.

Tomorrow, Ava tells Nikolas, sometimes, one never knows what the day may bring; Britt says, one more box to check; and Selina says, it’s seems she and Victor have much in common.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Julian packs, and Ava tells him that she told the staff she was away until further notice. She’s trained them over the years not to ask questions. Julian says, thank God for small favors, and Ava says Julian has reason to be thankful. More than Dev, and the man Lulu was dating; they’re dead. He says, only Jason was supposed to be there. it was supposed to be empty. She says, the place was packed with people. Why did he leave the bomb there? Why didn’t he throw it in the harbor? He says Cyrus didn’t give him a choice, but she says they always have choices, even when they’re backed into a corner. He says, like she did when she shot Connie Falconari?

At the hospital, Laura asks Nikolas if there’s any improvement. Nikolas says, Patrick and Griff were called, and concurred with Lucas’s diagnosis. There’s nothing they can do but wait and hope. Laura says, it’s not that she doesn’t trust Lucas, but she was hoping Patrick or Griff knew of a new way to deal with what’s happening with Lulu. Nikolas says, they send their regards, and tells her that he can reach out to Elizabeth. Maybe she knows where to find Lucky. Laura says, this can’t wait. They have to make a decision about his sister. She looks into Lulu’s room, and sees Dante with Lulu.

Alexis rings the bell at the Quartermaines, and Ned is surprised to see her. She says, Olivia invited her. She would have brought wine, but thought that would be inappropriate. Olivia welcomes Alexis, and thanks her for coming. She tells Ned that she asked Alexis to join them, and to take her coat. Olivia leaves, and Ned asks what in the world made Alexis think this was a good idea? She says his wife wouldn’t take no for an answer, and it would have been more suspicious if she’d turned Olivia down. He says, no offense, but can she stay sober? The doorbell rings, and Alexis says she won’t drink anything she doesn’t have to. Robert comes in, saying, happy Thanksgiving, and Ned says, another surprise guest. Olivia asks for his help in the kitchen, and he asks if she invited the entire city. She asks what he thinks about Alexis and Robert. They’re both members of the Lonely Hearts Club this year, and she thought they could celebrate Thanksgiving by doing some matchmaking.

Epiphany tells Sasha, the drugs increased her heart rate to the point of her having a heart attack. She hopes Sasha realizes the severity of what happened, and relies on her support system next time. Sasha asks, what support system? She has no family. Epiphany says Michael sat by her bed the whole night.

Willow tells Michael, when she realized Chase was telling her the truth, she had to walk out. She’s not ready to talk about it. What about him? Has he talked to Sasha? He says the medication Sasha was given kept her asleep. Olivia  tells them to come on. Thanksgiving punch is being served. They join the others.

Sonny asks Sam how the family is, and she says, aside from her mother, who she doesn’t want to talk about, Scout is too young to understand anything that’s going on, and Danny is taking it in stride. Carly says, Josslyn is the same way. She’s devastated about Dev, but lockdowns are normal for her. Sonny says, what a way to celebrate Thanksgiving, and Carly says, she doesn’t understand how Cyrus knew Jason was in The Floating Rib. Jason guesses he wasn’t careful enough, and Sam says Jason was in the MetroCourt when he said he was going to The Rib to play pool with Danny. He says, Cyrus wasn’t around, but someone maybe someone on staff at the MetroCourt overheard him. Carly says, Trish just hired a new bartender, Eli. They were going to do a background check on Monday. Sonny asks if Eli is working today, and Carly checks the schedule. She says he’s working from 1 to 9 today, and Sonny says he’s sorry, but he and Jason have to leave. Carly says he’s got to do what he needs to do, and Jason asks Sam if they’re good. She says, sure, but I dunno.

Epiphany tells Sasha that she has a visitor, and Sasha asks if Michael came back. Brando walks in, and Epiphany says she’ll check on Sasha later. She leaves, and Brando asks if Sasha is feeling better. She says, last night is blurry, but she does remember him being there. He says he brought her there after… She says, she OD’d. That’s what Epiphany said, but it still doesn’t make sense. The amount of cocaine she’d have to ingest would be astronomical. (Just for the record, that’s not necessarily true; it can hit anyone wrong at any time.) He says, so she’s been using? and she says she had a rough year. It’s rare, but she’s used it as a pick-me-up. He says, that’s what people with addictions say, and she starts to tell him that she doesn’t… but he says, people like them.

Ava tells Julian not to throw Connie in her face. Her nerves were shot because of him. He had her convinced she had to protect him at all costs. Julian says, it’s late in the game to have a conscience, and she says, that’s the difference between them. She’s grown, and she’s not a weak-minded coward who can’t take responsibility, like him. He says he’s glad they’re parting on good terms. She says she’s got to go see her husband, and find out if he has news on the sister Julian put in the hospital. Keep packing. She wants him out by dawn.

Dante tells Lulu that she needs to wake up. He hasn’t had a chance to tell her how sorry he is. Laura comes in, and asks if he’d mind some company, and he tells her that she should be in there, but Laura says she actually wanted to have a conversation with him about Lulu’s treatment. She’s legally the next of kin, but Dante is Lulu’s husband and Rocco’s father. She feels he has the right to have a say. He thanks her, and asks, what are their options? She says, Lulu isn’t supposed to wake up any time soon, and Dante starts to cry. She says as much as she appreciates GH, maybe it’s not the right place for Lulu’s medical care. He asks what she’s saying. She wants to send Lulu away? Is she giving up on her daughter?

Olivia says Alexis and Robert have a lot in common, and Robert says, they do? She says, they’re both lawyers, and Alexis says, not anymore. Robert says he’s heard Molly is a superstar at PCU, and she’s going to be a lawyer, and Alexis says maybe Molly will throw it all away and be a secret agent for 40 years, then make it a retirement hobby. Olivia laughs, and says Alexis is so funny. She has to check on the turkey. Robert gets up, and says he’s got to check on… something. By the punch bowl in the foyer, Robert asks Olivia what she’s doing, and she says he’s her friend, and Alexis is Ned’s friend; she thought they’d hit it off. He says, in all the time he’s lived there, he and Alexis have never exchanged two words. Olivia says, excuse her for trying to expand his social prospects. She was trying to be a good friend.

Ned tells Alexis, it’s nice to see her not drinking, but the more they’re around each other, the greater the chance Olivia will find out the truth. She asks if he thinks she’s going to bust into a cabinet, and start drinking the booze, but he says, there’s noticeable awkwardness. He’s glad his mother didn’t show up. Alexis says, they need to act normal. They have a long-standing friendship. If they don’t act like it, it will be suspicious, and someone will think something did happen between them. Robert stands in the doorway.

Sasha tells Brando, she barely knows him, and he’s telling her that he has a substance abuse problem. She’ll take his word for it, but not everyone who uses is an addict. She was just blowing off steam. (Amusing choice of words.) He says he’s not trying to judge, but from his past experience, he doesn’t think he’s wrong. He recognizes the warning signs. She says she gets it. Being in the hospital isn’t a good look. She just had too much last night. He says that’s not what he’s talking about. He’s seen her when she’s with Cyrus. She’s constantly going to the bathroom, and comes out sniffling. It’s becoming a nasty habit. She didn’t even ask what was in the bag; if it was cocaine or something stronger. He’s not trying to shame her, but he’s saying this because he’s been there. When he returned home from his tour, he wasn’t in a good place either, and also felt he needed something to take the edge off. A little something here, a little something there, and eventually… She says, it catches up to you.

Ava finds Nikolas at the hospital, and says, he’s been there all night? Lulu’s injuries didn’t seem that serious. Why hasn’t she been discharged? He apologizes for not calling, and says, they didn’t think it was serious. They thought it was just a headache, but her brain was swelling the whole time. Lulu was talking to Dante in the chapel, and collapsed. Ava asks, how bad is it? and he says, the doctors don’t know if she’ll wake up again. She says she’s so sorry, and he says they reached out to Patrick and Griff, but they confirmed Lucas’s diagnosis. Lulu just wasn’t as lucky as Franco. She says, Franco was at The Floating Rib? and he says, and Elizabeth and Cameron. Ava sits, and asks if they’re okay. He says, Elizabeth is fine, thankfully. Cameron has a leg injury, and will be fine, unlike Dev who died. Whoever did this has so much blood on their hands… He totally forgot to make arrangements for her brother, and tells her, sit tight. He’ll figure something out. Ava says let her worry about her brother.

Alexis tells Ned that she has no interest in blowing up his life. They see Robert, and Alexis says, time to refill her club soda. Ned says Robert might not know it, but their family Thanksgiving gatherings can be eventful. Robert says he doesn’t know what he stumbled into, but Olivia is his friend. If Ned hurts her, Robert swears Ned will still be in a wheelchair at Christmas. They hear Olivia yelling, and rush out into the foyer. Ned says, that doesn’t sound good, and Olivia says she was so distracted, she put the turkey in the oven at the wrong temperature. It’s like a charcoal briquet. Ned says, no one is hurt; it’s all fine, but she says, nothing is fine. Lulu is in the hospital, and might never wake up. Rocco may never have another conversation with his mother. Dante and Rocco are practically strangers, and now this. The one thing her son asked her for, a traditional Thanksgiving, and she screwed it up. It’s ruined. Monica says they haven’t cooked a successful turkey since the 90s. Olivia is sticking with tradition. If that’s what she wanted, she did a bang-up job. She says, they all know what they have to do next, and where they need to be,

Laura tells Dante, she’ll never give up. She’ll never stop hoping and praying that Lulu will come back, but the truth is, they’re done everything they can do there. They need to look into a long-term care facility, where doctors and nurses know how to deal with this. He says he just wants time with lulu. He wasted so much time. Please, can he have that? Laura leaves, and he kisses Lulu’s forehead.

Eli finds Sonny and Jason on the terrace, and tells them, sorry. The terrace is closed for the holidays. Jason says, they’re not there for a meal. Sonny says, they need answers, and Eli is going to give them to him and Jason.

Carly gives Sam something to drink, saying, she knows Sam is shaken up. Sam says she thought Jason and Danny were dead, and Carly says she’s so sorry. Sam says it was probably the most horrific hour of her life. She’s grateful Jason and Danny weren’t there, but she can’t stop thinking about Dev. He was so young, and had his whole life ahead of him, and now he’s gone. Carly says, it’s awful, and Sam says, it is. Carly told her Josslyn is used to growing up like this, and it breaks her heart. She doesn’t want that to happen to Scout, and Danny is old enough to understand now. This is a nightmare that will affect him in ways she can’t help. Carly says she gets it. They take chances with their lives they can’t imagine taking with their children. But Sam knew this was the life Jason lived when she chose to have Danny, like she knew about Sonny every time she married him. Fear is part of the deal, and they have to live with it. Sam says, what if she can’t live with it anymore?

Sasha tells Brando, she didn’t go looking for this. She was upset about the break-up, and got drunk. She overslept the day of the big Deception photo shoot, and Maxie freaked out when she saw how bad Sasha looked. Someone pulled her aside, and gave her something to get through it, and it worked. She had energy, and the photos turned out great. He says, in the short term, but then it becomes a way of life, and you depend on it more and more. That’s how the drugs work. Sasha says she’s not an addict, and he says she gave herself a heart attack and ended up in the hospital. Is she scared straight, or is she calling her dealer when she gets home? She asks why he’s spending Thanksgiving with her, and he says she’s the only one he can help right now.

Laura tells Nikolas that Dante actually said she was giving up on her daughter, and he hopes she set Dante straight. He shouldn’t even have a say. She says, he’s Rocco’s father, and it’s better if it doesn’t become a fight. They see Dante, and Nikolas tells Laura that he’ll talk to him, but she says, no. Epiphany comes out, and says, the mayor has visitors.  Everyone from the Quartermaines joins her, and Laura cries.

Dante asks what Olivia is doing there, and she says, it’s where they should have been. Monica says, it’s not just about food, and Alexis says, it’s about family. Michael says, not just the family they’re born not, but those they choose to make a part of their lives. Ned asks, where else would they be? So…? He hugs Laura.

Sasha asks how many people were at The Floating Rib, and Brando says, quite a few, including Dev, the son he never knew existed until a few months ago. The son he never imagined would be a part of his life, and now he’s gone. She says she’s so sorry. He should be with family, not there. They should be grieving together. He says he can’t deal with that, but he can help someone who needs it. She says, if someone said they wanted to help her, they could help her do some laps. How about it? He says, how many laps?

Michael asks how Dante is holding up, and Dante says, Laura wants to send Lulu to a long-term care facility, but it feels wrong to him. Michael says he knows it seems that way at first, but moving her to a facility like that is what she needs. His parents were in a similar situation with him, and it broke their hearts, but they made the right choice. He got the special care he needed, and when he woke up from his coma, he was able to leave and lead a normal life. Dante says he gets it, but it feels like they’re giving up on Lulu. Michael says he knows, but they both know Laura well enough to know she’d never give up on Lulu, and he knows Dante won’t either.

Sam tells Carly, forget what she said, but Carly says, don’t do that. Sam is scared and needs to talk, and Carly is there listening. Sam says she hasn’t been able to catch her breath for the last 24 hours. She’s accepted the violence that goes with Jason’s life, but this is different. Danny almost died. She can’t get used to it. What if next time somebody tries to kill Jason, she, Danny, and Scout are with him? When she first became a mother, she wasn’t involved with Sonny’s world at all. Then she got engaged to Patrick. None of that made her miss Jason less, but for the first time in her life, she wasn’t running a con. She wasn’t married to the mob, or looking over her shoulder. Part of that made her feel normal. She liked Dev.

Eli tells Jason, easy. He doesn’t know what they want. Jason punches him in the stomach, and twists Eli’s arm around behind his back. He says Eli was working last night, and was close enough to hear him say he was going to The Floating Rib. Did he pass it along to Cyrus? Eli says he doesn’t know Cyrus, and Jason says, a guy in a suit with a ponytail. Did Eli tell him that Jason was going to be at The Floating Rib? Eli says, yeah, and Sonny pounds on Eli’s head with his finger, asking if he was paid to do anything else. Eli says, make a call to some guy, and pass on the message to drop off a package at The Floating Rib.

Sasha sees Willow with Michael, and tells Brando, last year at this time, that was her. She says she’s had enough exercise, and wants to go back to her room. Dante apologizes to Laura, saying, he was completely out of line. It’s a lot to process. She says she understands how he feels, and he says she’s right. Of course (🍷) they’ve got to do what’s best for Lulu’s care. He takes Laura’s hands, and says he wants her to know he’ll never stop loving Lulu. Laura says she knows that, and he goes back to Lulu’s room.

Monica asks for a moment. It’s Thanksgiving, but they’re here because a friend, family member, and member of their community is hurting, so she thinks a group prayer is in order. Everyone bows their heads, and Monica says, these last few days have been senseless and tragic. They’ve lost people too quickly, but have to remember to give thanks for what they do have. They have faith that things will get better; they have hope that their wounds will heal. They have the trust and support of those around them, and each other to lean on, and of course (🍷) have faith in God. Amen. Laura hugs Monica, and says she’s so lucky. Ned comes in with a load of pizzas, and Olivia says, it’s not the Thanksgiving dinner she’d promised… and Ned says, but it is keeping with tradition. Laura says, it’s perfect, and thanks them. Tracy walks in, and says, not so fast. First we sing, then we eat. Laura and I cry, and Laura hugs Tracy, thanking her.

Sam tells Carly, she feels like her loyalty to Jason is in competition with her instincts to be Scout and Danny’s mother. Carly says she’s been there so many times. This life has so many ups and downs. There are good times, but there are dangers; it comes with the territory. Sam says she knows. That’s why she can’t sleep at night.

Eli tells Sonny and Jason, he just thought he was making a few extra bucks. He had no idea the package was a bomb. Jason asks who he called, and he says he doesn’t know; just some guy. Jason tells him to give them the phone, and Sonny takes it. He scrolls through and calls a number back. He hears the outgoing message say he’s reached Julian Jerome. He says, son of a bitch. (Sonny’s go-to curse phrase.)

Julian zips up his bag, when Ava walks in. He says she’s back sooner than he expected. She says, we need to have a talk, big brother. She holds a gun behind her back.

I just have to mention, after months of a mess on his head, Julian’s hair finally looks good. Now he’s leaving.

Tomorrow, Valentin fires Martin, Julian says Ava is choosing Nikolas over her own brother, Sonny says Julian has pushed him too far, and Laura slaps someone.

Below Deck

Shane sleeps while everyone else gets ready for charter. In Eddie’s interview, he says, WTF? It’s like a slap in the face to him and the team. He’s lost all respect for Shane, and he’s not even wasting energy to wake him up or scold him. Francesca warns Rachel that Captain Lee is coming, but I missed the warning system she has. He goes to the galley, and shows them a picture his wife sent of the two of them when they were younger, captioned, your favorite stew, so you don’t forget. He tells them that Maryann was his chief stew, and he got her into yachting. We see another photo of them, and in Rachel’s interview, she says she travels a lot, and understands. The captain says his wife is quite a lady, and Rachel tells Francesca that she misses her dude.

James says he doesn’t even check out Izzy’s ass anymore. Rachel calls boyfriend Vincenzo to say she misses and loves him. He says he misses her too. It’s time for the preference sheet meeting, and the captain says primary Tim is a trial attorney. He’ll be joined by his wife Beth, and three other couples. He’s celebrating his 50th with a multi-course dinner, including beluga caviar and a live steel drum band. (It’s not clear whether they want to listen to the band or eat them.) They want a beach barbecue picnic, and a lot rests on Rachel. In Rachel’s interview, she says, these guests seem refreshing. They’re her spirit animal. We flash back to the last charter, where she served the guests lobster, and they wanted more Jell-O shots. Captain Lee says, the service has to match the menu. They also want the dreaded slide.

In the morning, James puts Nutella and chocolate syrup on his toast. Bleh. For dessert, yeah, but I can’t do that kind of thing in the morning. Eddie tells Shane to clean the waterline, and if he scratches his leg, clean it out good. Francesca wants Elizabeth to organize the pantry, and can’t understand why Elizabeth is so messy. Eddie tells Izzy about Shane claiming he wants to improve, yet he found Shane napping. James admits to being body conscious, and in his interview, says he was quiet as a kid, and felt like a loser. He went to the gym, and cracked jokes because he wanted to be heard. Elizabeth tells him, it’s nice to have someone to talk to about sh*t. Rachel suggests printing wine menus along with the food menus, and goes over the food with Francesca. In Francesca’s interview, she says Rachel’s sense of humor is R rated, and hers is more refined. Whatever it was went over my head, since I don’t know what she’s talking about. James does exercises on deck. Izzy tells Shane, initiative plus drive, and Shane asks Eddie what needs help with. Eddie tells Rachel about Shane wearing a sleep mask (he calls it an eye patch) with do not disturb on it. He says he can’t. He’s at the end of his line.

Rachel says she didn’t know Shane was sleeping and sh*t. Izzy tries to show Shane knots, and in Shane’s interview, he says he’s ready to show the crew that he can do his job, but his head is in a tornado. He tries to remember the rabbit hole story Izzy told him to help remember how to make the knot, and says he’s going to do it a million times tonight. Everyone goes to bed

In Shane’s interview, he says he’s a perfectionist, and Eddie not being happy with him is a bummer. Confidence comes from failure, so he’s pretty confident. The next morning, Shane tells James that he slept with his shammy in his bed. Francesca tells the stews that she wants to work on streamlining service more. Everything looks messy at the moment. She tells Elizabeth that she’d like the pantry done now. She doesn’t want to see a mess; they’ll be able to work better. In Elizabeth’s interview, she says she thinks she can’t please Francesca, and it’s personal. A producer asks if she’s not really messy, and Elizabeth says she’s like a messy artist. Rachel asks Elizabeth, what’s wrong? but she says, nothing. Shane asks Eddie how he can help, and Eddie tells him, the list is on the wall. He says, Shane has told him a few times that he wants to go the distance, and Shane says he does. Eddie is going to see him in action. Eddie says he hopes so.

Elizabeth and Ashling clean the pantry, and in her interview, Ashling says she feels like she’s in between two pieces of bread. It’s so awkward. She can’t pick a side, or sh*t will hit the fan. Eddie tells them, provisions are here, and everything is brought in. Guest face towels are prepared, and Elizabeth shows Ashling the red tiger eye she carries for confidence. In her interview, Ashling supposes everybody’s different. It’s a half hour until the guests’ arrival, and the crew gets into their whites. Izzy frets over her camel toe, and the captain asks if she’s all right. When she explains, he says, alrighty then, having not expected TMI.

The guests arrive. When Izzy introduces herself, Tim says he’s easy too. Captain Lee says they’re going to get the party started quick. Francesca will give them a tour, they’ll get the luggage on board, and get out of Dodge. Francesca gives the tour, and I’m loving the cushion/pillow colors; very 60s with turquoise, green, and gold. Francesca tells the guests, a cheese board is coming, and puts Ashling on laundry. The boat heads out to Five Island Harbour. Francesca tells the guests that they’re going to anchor and have lunch relatively soon. Izzy says she’s so ready to drop anchor, since it’s her first time as deckhand, and Francesca tells Elizabeth to set the table, but not put out the wine glasses yet. Captain Lee tells the guests that this is the most protected area, and they ask if he’ll join them for dinner tomorrow. In Rachel’s interview, she says the guests are awesome in her eyes. They’re into food and wine, and that’s up her alley. She’s making an amazing, marinated snow crab that can’t fail. She plates it weird, in a crescent shape on the plate, and the guests wonder if something is missing. They also think it’s fake crab. In Francesca’s interview, she wonders on what super yacht they would serve fake crab. What an idiot. She tells Rachel, who says, it’s one of the most expensive seafoods you can have. I’d throw the shells at them as proof.

The water toys are put in, and some of the guests jump off the boat. Primary Tim takes a nap, and Francesca tells Elizabeth, when she’s finished, prep for dinner. In Elizabeth’s interview, she says she’s getting a negative vibe from Francesca. Eddie asks Ashling how day one is, and Ashling says she feels fab. A guest asks if they have a call button, but that’s a no. I can just imagine if they did. Elizabeth calls friend Ana, and says she’s trying to reset. She doesn’t appreciate the way things are said, and Ana tells her, don’t let anyone psych her out. In her interview, Rachel says she’s not happy. The guests didn’t like lunch, so she’s going big for dinner with herb crusted lamb, brioche, and foie gras. It’s dark out, and the guests look at some fish below that might be sharks. One of them wants to jump in and catch one, but as much fun as it would be to see a shark eat him, lucky for him, another guest stops him. In Shane’s interview, he says when he was in high school, he sat in the front, and had all the answers. He’s smart, and doesn’t know why doing this job makes him feel insecure. He’s a perfectionist, so he’s motivated to accomplish the job, but he doesn’t know how to get there. He writes in his journal.

At dinner, a guest is wearing some God-awful pants that look like the American flag. Beth says, it’s amazing, and they’re not going to want to go home. In Rachel’s interview, she says she thought the guests would be refined, but Tim is pretty wasted; it’s embarrassing. Yes it is, because he has to go to bed before dinner even happens. Beth tells him to make sure he comes to his birthday party. Rachel says, the primary hasn’t even touched his food. It’s annoying since she tried to make his food preferences come alive, and he’s done. The tiniest flan in the world is served for dessert, and the guests go to bed. James does crunches in his cabin, and Shane finishes up on deck.

Eddie finds that Shane left the garage door open, and in his interview, says, it’s basic sh*t. You lock your house when you leave. He keeps repeating, today is a good effing day, while on his way to deal with Shane, but Shane is still in bed. In Francesca’s interview, she says Ashling is thinking like her. She has a go-getter attitude, which is what Francesca needs in a stew – to be more like her. Francesca tells Ashling that she’ll be going to the beach. Eddie says, it’s slide time, and explains the set-up to James. Francesca calls the provisioner, and says they’re having a white party, and need a steel drum band. The slide is the usual pain in the ass to set up, and Francesca tells Elizabeth to do the cabins. Eddie tells Shane that he didn’t close the garage door. In his interview, Eddie says he can’t be too aggressive. He knows the kind of guy Shane is, and his chakras will be out of whack, so Eddie is tiptoeing around him. James tests the slide, and the other toys are put in the water. Francesca tells Tim, happy birthday, and Rachel pushes waffles for breakfast.

Shane outs himself to the captain, telling him about leaving the door open. Captain Lee asks if Shane doesn’t shut the door when he leaves the house. Shane wanders off, and the captain says, dumbass, which about sums it up. Tim skips breakfast, since he doesn’t usually eat in the morning. The crew gets ready for the picnic, and Eddie drives Shane and Ashling over to the beach. In her interview, Rachel says, she’s pressed for time, and has a beach picnic. She loves it. It’s also the primary’s 50th, and he’s requested a multi-course tasting menu. The tender is unloaded at the beach, and they start to set up. Izzy asks if Ashling is single, and she says she is. In Elizabeth’s interview, she says she feels badly about not being part of the beach picnic. She feels like Francesca isn’t happy with her, and Ashling is perfect, and it’s not fair.

Rachel gets the food platters ready for the beach. Francesca radios, asking for two pina coladas, but Rachel says, f*** that. She needs a hand getting stuff in the tender. In her interview, she says the lack of communication with her blows her mind. She doesn’t care what they need do. They need to make sure this sh*t gets schlepped TF out.

Francesca goes with the food, to expedite things. She says she wants to go swimming, but meanwhile, in the galley, Rachel wants to punch someone in the face. Eddie goes back for the guests, and Francesca takes pictures of the table. When the guests arrive, she welcomes Tim to his 50th birthday beach extravaganza. The guests are amazed, and declare food amazing, since this is apparently the only descriptive word they know. Some guests do snorkeling, while others jet ski, and the rest lounge around. Izzy asks if Shane happy, and he says he’s more prepared. In his interview, he says he knows he messed up incredibly, and has to step up his game and work hard. Eddie thinks he’s dumber than he actually is, so it’s frustrating. Ashling radios Eddie, telling him, the guests are ready to be picked up.

Francesca goes over the menu with Rachel, who says she’s going to bed after dinner, and crying. The beach is cleaned up, Shane being sure to scold them for not using paper straws. I have to say, I’m with him on this, since I live near a beach, and it’s horrible how many wash up. Eddie asks Izzy how she’s doing, and she says she’s dirty and messy, but good. Rachel looks for the caviar, and can only find salmon roe. She tells Francesca about it, and in her interview, Rachel says, the primary specifically said something about wanting it, and she’s going to lose her sh*t. Shane asks if she’s okay, and she tells him to keep moving; she’s not joking. She’s going to punch someone in the scrotum.

Alrighty then.

Next time, the captain joins the guests for dinner, Shane’s phone dies, and Captain Lee calls Shane to the bridge for a conversation. Shane looks scared.

🛥 So sorry. A little Deck confusion on my part last night. I thought there wasn’t going to be a new one, so good thing I double-checked. For whatever reason, it was listed, but there was no blurb, and my mind must have registered it as no show. Maybe it was too much Thanksgiving food. That’s my story anyway, and I’m sticking to it.
