July 26 (sort of), 2018 -A Trap is Set for Nelle & Ashley Joins the Reunion

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Wow. I’m having quite a week. This morning, my computer was fighting with me. But TV waits for no man, or woman, so as promised, here is yesterday’s General Hospital and Part Two of the Southern Charm reunion.  So much Ashley, so little cognizance. The reunion was also an hour and a half, so it threw me off. I wish they’d just make it three episodes. Friday’s GH to come tonight… I hope.

General Hospital

Alexis walks into the hospital while on the phone. She says she’ll deliver the news. Julian sees her, and says he heard about her kickass meeting for Kiki, and thanks her. She says she’s proud of Kiki standing up for herself and other women. She says she’s there on urgent business, and Julian hopes there’s nothing wrong. She says it’s good news for a change.

Jordan tells Chase that Nelle is unpredictable. She hopes he knows how to handle the game he cooked up. It’s risky; they’re putting Michael’s life in danger. She wants it locked up without a chance of a mistake.

Nelle and Michael talk about the baby coming. He says they’ll get her bag together when they get home. She hopes he feels as good as she does hearing him say that. He says she doesn’t know how much. She says they have the rest of their lives to

Franco is in Doc’s office. He says Drew came through for him. He’s not just coming to the wedding, he agreed to be best man. Although he might be doing it for Elizabeth. Elizabeth walks in, and Franco wonders what she’s doing there. She says she’s dropping off files. What’s his excuse? He says, therapy session, and she says, by himself? He’s practicing, to stay in shape until the real thing happens. Doc said it was okay. Elizabeth says he called from the airport. He’s back.

Doc comes by Sonny’s place. Sonny asks how Spencer is, and Doc says, tearing it up. Laura is good, but anxious to come home. Sonny says she’s been gone a while; he must miss her. Carly is gone, and Sonny misses her too. Jason says they all do. Sonny thinks it’s time they bring her home. He wants to have a conversation about how they’ll make that happen.

Mary Pat puts lotion on Carly’s hands, asking her if it doesn’t feel good to get out of that stuffy room, and take some air. She has a big appointment today, and she wants to look her best for what’s to come. I don’t think Carly knows what’s going on. She’s pretty out of it.

Julian doesn’t mean to pray, and Alexis says it’s not her information to give. It’s for Brad. Brad asks if he’ being sued, and she says, not by her. She asks if he wants to find somewhere private, but he’s good with talking there. If he doesn’t lose his mind first. She says he’ll need his faculties for what’s to come. And diapers too. Congratulations, he and Lucas are parents.

Franco thought Doc was away until next week, and Elizabeth says, that was the plan, but something came up with a patient. Franco asks if it’s him; it usually is. She ask if he doesn’t have a thing. He does, and jets.

Jordan listens to the recording of Nelle, and says it’s enough to bring her in. Chase says not enough to convict her. She’s cunning. She’ll know she has enough wiggle room to skate. Michael won’t quit until Carly is out. He says she won’t see it coming; she’ll have no time to adjust. Jordan says she’s good. She fooled Sonny. Chase says that lit a fire under Michael. Jordan hopes so. It’s their only chance.

Doc was under the impression Carly was in good hands when he left. Jason says. there’s nothing good about the people at Ferncliff. Doc doesn’t blame her trying to escape. It’s a natural extension of her strategy to keep out of Pentonville. He knows she’s not mentally ill. Sonny says they have to get her out asap, but Doc says that might not be possible now.

Ava tells Nelle and Michael that she’s glad the chaos of the other night didn’t harm them. Nelle says they bounced back, and got married there. Sam comes by, and asks how Carly is, and Michael says she’s not allowed visitors. Michael gets a text from Chase to meet him in the park. He makes the excuse of a work thing. When he’s gone, Nelle asks Ava not to bring up Carly around Michael. It’s clear she’s not getting the help she needs. Who knows when they’ll see her next, if ever?

Mary Pat asks if Carly is excited. Dr. Lazarus has quite the afternoon in store. Carly says Doc’s name, and Mary Pat says he’s not available. It wouldn’t matter anyway. She had a long talk with the director, and they agreed they’re not getting through. Her treatment is overdue, but it won’t be long now. Try to relax. Before she knows it, she’ll feel like a new woman. She won’t be able to hurt anyone. Carly sees Nelle in the room.

Brad says the baby’s not due until August, and Alexis says, baby’s aren’t known for keeping schedules. She asks if he wants to know if it’s a boy or girl. Brad says Lucas should be there, but Alexis tells him that Lucas just went into surgery. She says congratulations; it’s a son. She’s going to meet with the birth mother’s lawyer. She tells him to clear his schedule and get the car seat in.

Michael meets Chase. He tells Michael the car is keyed up and ready to go. Is he? He asks if Michael is having second thoughts. Michael says his mother was put in an asylum, and she’s trying to kill him. Chase says she’s carrying his child. They can wait until after the baby comes. Michael says they need to put plan in motion right now.

Nelle tells Ava to consider this her notice. She won’t be back to work. She’s going to stay home and raise the baby. Ava adds, and spend Michael’s money. Nelle says, her money. Everything has gone her way so far; Ava’s too. Ava says not to mistake for an ally. Nelle gets a text. She asks Ava, why so unfriendly? Carly said she had help, and she made herself an accomplice when she stole the blanket. Carly is a raving lunatic about a blanket no one saw. It’s too late to back out. Like it or not, they’re in this together.

Doc tells Sonny there was a release on the horizon, but Carly escaped. He almost had the judge convinced, but she took matters into her own hands. And there’s no getting around she assaulted a nurse. Sonny says she’s fine, and complains about Diane having to convince the judge for five minutes with her client. He wants someone to tell her that she’s not alone. Doc says he’ll see what he can do. There’s a chance they’ll reassign her to a different doctor. Sonny respects him. He’s never failed their family before; don’t fail them now.

Carly sits, barely conscious. Imaginary Nelle says she came to keep Carly company; she must be lonely. Don’t worry about Michael. She’ll take care of him. Carly says, no.

Mary Pat talks to someone, telling them, here’s the workspace. She says don’t expect much; they’re heavily medicates, and probably can’t do more than fingerprint. It’s Franco, and he tells her he’ll figure it out. He’s had bad cases before.

Brad tells Julian he’s always been the cynical one, but he lowered his guard, even convincing Lucas to decorate the perfect nursery. They’ve had it ready for weeks. The baby can sleep there tonight. Their son. Alexis says someone wants to meet him, and a nurse brings the baby in.

Chase tells Nelle that he rigged the car to crash. They’ll fail if he suspects. Then they can’t be together and it’s all for nothing. She say she’ll have him take her on an errand, and then send him far enough away for Chase’s contraption to work. He’ll lose control of the car. Problems solved.

At the Quartermaines, Ava thinks it’s time proper conversation with Michael, about his mother and new wife. He doesn’t want to talk to her. She tried to have Mike committed. She says she was protecting her child. He would have done the same. She says when Carly interrupted the wedding, she suggested Nelle wasn’t acting alone. It was pretty obvious Carly was talking about her.

Sonny goes to the station. He tells Jordan that he heard from Diane, and doesn’t understand why Carly is allowed no visitors. Jordan says it’s only temporary until the adjust her treatment. He say she doesn’t need any, and she’s stuck in that snake pit with no one to help her.

Carly tells Nelle to go away. Nelle tells her that she’ll be old and grey by the time Sonny and Jason get her out. Maybe they’ve forgotten her, or don’t care. Face reality; she’s in it for the long haul. No one is coming. Franco says, Carly?

Chase gives Nelle last minute instructions. They can only safely go fifteen miles total. Then the steering will lock and the brakes will fail. He tells her she can still back out. She says Michael is pretending to care, and setting her up to take her baby. Michael has to die.

Ava tells Michael, whatever entity exists between Carly and Nelle has nothing to do with her. He asks if hiring her was a coincidence, and Ava says she did it for hi child’s sake. He says he’s not the one to worry about; his mother is a different story. Ava says she seems to have long road ahead.

Elizabeth tells Jason how much Jake enjoyed spending time with him and Drew. They’re both important to him; so is Franco. If Jason can get along with Drew, and Drew with Franco, maybe he and Franco can get along. Jason excuses himself. He needs to talk to Doc. Doc tells him there could be additional cause for concern.

Fantasy Nelle says it’s getting crowded in the room. Carly shakes her head. Franco says he’s as surprised to be there as she is to see him. A bleeding heart gave him an art therapy grant. Nelle asks what’s worse, getting a visit from Franco or being left to rot. Carly asks if Nelle is there. He asks if she wants the doctor or Mary Pat, and she says Mary Pat keeps giving her drugs. Franco says if she wants to express her feelings sin a safe space, that’s what art is for. She says he has to get her out of there.

Brad picks up the baby. Julian films while he talks to the baby and introduces himself. He tells him about Poppa Lucas being a doctor. He’s afraid he’ll break the baby, and Julian tell him that he’ll be fine. If there’s a situation they can’t handle, they have an army of friends and family to help. Brad asks Alexis when they can be sure the baby won’t be taken back. Julian asks what the chances of that are.

Alexis says it’s very rare. They have more pressing matters, like a name. Brad say they’d chosen Cher for a girl. Both short for Cheryl, for Lucas’s mom, and after Cher. They were talking about how a month can seem like a long while, and thought of Wiley, because they knew he’d be worth it all the while. Julian welcomes Wiley Cooper Jones to the world. Brad asks if Julian wants to hold him.

Carly tells Franco to tell Sonny and Jason to break her out. Mary Pat appears, and asks if there’s a problem. Franco says Carly asked for shade of pencil he didn’t bring. Mary Pat takes him into the hall, and tells him to be careful. The patients are medicated, but violent. And stay clear of that one. Franco says, Carly? Mary Pat asks if he knows her, and he says they’ve dealt with one another. He says they need to rejigger her meds; she’s no herself. Mary Pat says she’s better than when she got there. Soon, she’ll be right as rain. Fake Nelle shows Carly a knife, saying she’ll have a lot of fun with this. Carly says, stay away. Mary Pat says, looks like class over, and says what did they tell Carly about moving without permission?

Sonny tells Jordan that Carly isn’t sick. Jordan says, legally, she is. It’s out of her reach. Sonny says Nelle set her up. Jordan tells him knowing isn’t proving. Her conviction will be overturned only when Michael and Chase get the proof. If it’s going to happen, it will happen tonight.

Nelle finds Michael and Ava talking. She thought Ava was having lunch with Griff, but Ava says he had to cancel. The downside of dating a doctor. She came over to deliver Nelle’s final paycheck. Michael looks surprised, and Ava says it’s lovely that she’s going to devote all her time to her family; she’ll be missed at the gallery. Ava leaves, and Michael asks where Nelle has been. She says she ran into Chase, and he made a last pitch for a reunion. Michael says he shouldn’t be harassing her, but she says he knows where she stands. She meant her vows when she said them.

Doc tells Jason that the director at Ferncliff put Dr. Lazarus in in charge. Apparently, Doc isn’t doing his job at healing an already sane patient. He says Lazarus’s methods are controversial. He’s revised a technique that’s generally out of favor – electroconvulsive therapy. Carly is already scheduled for her first treatment.

Carly says she doesn’t belong there, and Mary Pat says, yet here she is. She’ll feel better when she’s adjusted to treatment. It’s time to see Dr. Lazarus, and move on to something new.

Jason asks Doc when Carly is scheduled, but all he knows is it’s sometime today. Jason asks what it will do to her, but Doc says it’s hard to say. That brand of treatment is a last resort. It’s for the truly lost who are beyond all other hope.

Franco tells Elizabeth that his time at Ferncliff was cut short. He doesn’t think he can help the poor souls there. Jason hears him.

Mary Pat tells Carly soon she’ll have a whole new outlook on life. She takes Carly down the hall, saying Carly’s life will be so much better – and hers. She tells Carly to pick up her feet. Carly passes a patient that looks like Doc, who tells her, SOS. There’s been speculation that the mystery patient is really Doc’s twin brother Ryan. He’s supposed to be dead, but you know how it goes. I’m still expecting Faison to pop up again.

Julian holds the baby, saying, such a miracle, and Brad tells the baby to say grandpa. He takes a picture and sends it to Julian. It’s time for him to take his son home. Julian hopes to be somebody his grandson will want to know. He tells the baby his grandfather loves him so much, and always will. He hands the baby back to Brad. Alexis says she’ll be in touch. Brad thanks her and leaves. Julian looks at the picture and wonders when he’ll hold the baby again. Alexis tells him to keep doing what he’s doing, and maybe he’ll see his grandson all the time.

Nelle packs her bag, but tells Michael she’s missing the glycerin lollipops that were recommended. Michael suggest picking them up tomorrow, but Nelle says what if she goes into labor tonight? They can pick some up in Sawyer now. Michael thinks it’s a little far, but she says, it’s worth every mile.

Back at the station, Chase says he met with Nelle, and the plan has been put in motion. He had a hidden camera in Michael’s car, so they can watch in real time. The car is set to lose control after he gets out. The rest is up to Michael.

Michael tells Nelle that Sawyer is in the opposite direction from the hospital. She says it’s only a few miles. By the time he’s done, she’ll be ready for him to pick her up. He asks how can he refuse her anything, and they leave.

Tomorrow, Maxie asks Nina how she got roped in, Jason asks Franco about Ferncliff, and Carly gets her treatment.

Southern Charm – Reunion Part Two

Ashley says she’s about to walk into lion’s den. She’s going to speak her truth, even though it’s gotten her into trouble. It’s hard for her. Violins play in my head, and Austen says, here we go.

Andy wants to talk about Kathryn disappearing. He asks if she was surprised at everyone’s concern, and she says, it’s never been that way. HE asks at what age she realized she was struggling with depression. She tells him when she was eighteen, she was working politics. The men objectified her, and she self-medicated. She talks about going off the medication she’s on now, saying she doesn’t like depending on things other than herself to be normal. She’s glad it came out on the show, since a lot of people won’t admit to needing help. They still suffer the stigma of being medicated, but they shouldn’t feel ashamed. Cameran talks about suffering from anxiety, and that she needed medication. Craig says he had Kathryn’s back in times of conflict, but he wasn’t there all the time, and feels embarrassed. Anyone who’s gone through the bullsh*t Kathryn has would probably end up having something. Kathryn says she’s evolved, and she recognized they’re there for her, and it means a lot. Craig says she masked it a lot. Shep can relate to the depression part, and is happy to see the support.

Andy talks about Shep moving to a quieter, gentler area, where the sand is softer to face-plant in. They discuss the difference between a blackout and a brownout. Shep says with a brownout, you get mental snapshots of the night, where in a blackout, it’s what the hell happened? Austen says anything was better than what Shep was doing. Cameran says he’s still out and about, and showed her all the women on his phone. Andy asks how many times a week he goes out, and he says, it depends. Austen thinks four to six. Cameran is surprised he’s never gotten anyone pregnant. Andy asks about birth control, and Shep says he’s iffy. Cameran asks if he’s clean, and he says of course. Craig hopes they’re not jinxing him.

Relationshep is talked about, and Andy says he was surprised when Shep chose the twenty-two-year-old. It doesn’t seem like he really wants a committed relationship, but there’s no crime in that. He says he sees clichés, and falls into the trap. We flash back to Shep’s dinner party, and he and Craig attempting to grill. Andy asks about Shep’s knee, and he says he’s good. Andy tells him there are lots of people hoping for a Shep and Kathryn relationship. Shep does look back and wonder what if things happened differently. Andy says they have great chemistry. Shep says, physically, and they have a lot of fun. He says she’s really good, and Kathryn thanks him for the endorsement. We find out they’ve hooked up five times, and they talk about the time after Kensie was born at the Palace Hotel. Andy says, the night is young, and Kathryn says it’s an annual thing. Andy calls it a reunion hook-up.

Andy says Shep told his mother that he was working on becoming less angry, and he says he didn’t want to become an angry old guy. We flash back to his conversation with his mother. Shep says he realized he wasn’t his normally congenial, happy self, and hates being mean-spirited. We see a clip of him telling Austen he doesn’t need more friends, and Austen saying he’ll stay away then. Shep says it was like living on Bourbon Street. Andy says he got heat for calling out Austen for partying, and we flash back to Shep talking to Chelsea. A viewer says he can’t seem to pass up the opportunity to one up Austen, and Shep admits to still being salty. He’s asked if jealousy is a factor, and Shep says Austen had texted him about missing an epic night, and he came across badly. He says, talking someone else down is the worst move in the world. A viewer gets why Chelsea wanted Austen to stand up to Shep. Andy asks if it’s about Austen not standing up to Shep, or more about Austen, and Chelsea says it was more the standing up. Austen says it caused a serious rift. Shep says he apologized. He didn’t make himself look better, and squashed anything he could have had with Chelsea. He thinks they were both trying to win her over, and butted heads. Shep suggests Chelsea doesn’t have to tell everything he says, but Chelsea says he was painting himself as a choirboy.

Austen still isn’t working, and Andy asks if anyone there with a penis, besides him, has any ambition. Naomie says they have an ambition to not work. Andy asks about the status of Austen’s beer. Austen says it’s in the branding stage, and he’s pitching it to distributors. The name is going to be Trop Hop, because it has a tropical bent. We all like it. Andy says everyone loves his parents, who pop up on social media. His mom is no-nonsense, and his dad used to be in the FBI. Andy asks how much beer Austen would have to sell to actually pick up a check. He claims Chelsea grabs the check like lightening. She doesn’t feel she’s one of those girls who has to be paid for, but it’s how he went about it, and imitates his feeble attempt of, no, let me get it. Chelsea says not everyone is fortunate enough to have a family that can front them. It’s frustrating, because all the opportunities are right there; just pick something. Austen wishes it was that simple.

Backstage, Ashley thinks about what she’s going to say, and how she’s going to be the best person she can be. The hairdresser looks bored.

Andy says until she finds a manly man, Chelsea is content hanging with her main dog Tyson. We see pictures, and Chelsea says he’s one of Michael Vick’s dogs that were rescued. He’s been used as bait. I’m disgusted (no bold type for Vick), but make aww noises at the pictures. Andy asks if she’s gotten more clients because of the show, and she says she has. She talks about how she hears everything that goes on, and that a client saw Thomas and Ashley outside a restaurant arguing to the point of him throwing leftover food at her. He was saying she’s going to send him back to prison. Andy says after visiting her childhood home, Chelsea got emotional. She says her world was turned upside down after her stepdad died. We flash back to them visiting the house. Andy asks if she seeks out good providers because of the lifestyle her stepfather gave them. She says she learned to provide for herself. She looks back and sees what her mom went through, and doesn’t want to put herself in the same situation. A viewer thinks she sends Austen mixed messages, and Andy asks if they’ve hooked up since they stopped dating. The answer is no, and Andy moves on to Austen getting back with Victoria after Chelsea rebuffed him. He says it felt good to feel wanted, and she wanted to be with him; why push that away? Shep says Victoria is a fun time girl, and like one of the guys.

Andy rudely asks if Austen and Shep have ever been with the same woman on the same night. That’s a no, and Andy says a threesome doesn’t mean you’re gay. He says a lot of viewers thought Chelsea’s behavior toward Austen on the boat was inappropriate. She says people see a glimpse of something on social media, and their minds go off in different directions. She insists it was innocent, and I’m on her side. Shep says Austen hugging Chelsea at the party looked sultry and wonderful. Kathryn says they have natural chemistry, and Chelsea admits it looked flirty when she watched it. Andy says viewers love them as couple, and compare them to Ross and Rachel from Friends. He asks if they’ll ever get back together, but they’re both dating other people. Chelsea says he’s a friend; it’s not like that. She’s going out with someone who’s not from Charleston, so no one has met him yet.

It’s time for Ashley to join the group. Andy says Ashley might double-down. Naomie says triple-down. Andy asks her how painful the last four hours was, and she says she thought of running a few times. Shep says they’re at the finish line. Everyone trickles in, and someone wishes they had a water gun. Naomie crosses herself.

Andy describes Ashley as having traded scrubs for Chanel. Getting Thomas to marry her was a full-time job, and she spent her free time poking the mama bear. He asks if she’s nervous, and asks how her experience was watching the season. She thinks if people understood her humor, it would be different. She tends to poke and tease and get a rise out of people, and wishes it wouldn’t be taken so seriously. Andy says viewers on social media are concerned about her weight loss. She says the pressure of filming made her nervous. She put pressure on herself and it created stress. Andy says they haven’t been filming for a while. She says there are also the allegations. People are saying she has anorexia, and is a villain. This didn’t happen overnight. Andy asks about when she first met Thomas. Ashley says his first question was what she did for a living, and he told her that his sister is a nurse. She thought it was nice of him to be interested in hearing about her career. She thought he had depth. Andy asks what he’s like as a boyfriend. The words alternately boring and crazy come to mind, but she says he’s romantic; he takes care of her. Everyone laughs. She says she likes scaring and pranking him, and putting fake bugs around to keep it fun. Andy wonders how he’s doing in light of the investigation. She says it’s been humbling, and she’s seeing a new Thomas. He wants to stay in and keep under the radar. He’s been softer, more sensitive, kinder, and more supportive. Everyone wants to be your friend when you’re on top, and she’s not leaving. Andy asks if she expects Thomas to be cleared, and she says of course. There have been no charges, just allegations. It used to be innocent until proven guilty, but now it’s the other way around. I have to admit, she’s right there, but I doubt it applies in Thomas’s case. He acts like a full-blown nut sometimes.

Andy says Kathryn admitted to Craig that she and Thomas hooked up after the season 4 reunion. We flash back to Thomas winking at her during the reunion. Andy asks if anyone is surprised, and Naomie says it’s a tradition. Kathryn says it’s an annual thing. Andy points out Thomas was dating Ashley in May, and hooked up with Kathryn in June. Kathryn says she had no idea he was dating Ashley. Ashley says he told her in July; he doesn’t lie. Ha! He probably told her because he knew she was going to find out, since all of them knew.

Andy says the first time Ashley met Kathryn was at Shep’s birthday party. Ashley said she was physically afraid of Kathryn based on what she’d heard. Kathryn says she’s never touched anyone in her life; weird. Andy asks Kathryn what she thought of Ashley, and Kathryn says she thought Ashley was normal… ish. We flash back to Ashley saying she has nothing but respect for Kathryn. Kathryn says Ashley met her children before they met. Ashley says Thomas has full custody, and it was just in passing. Kathryn asks how long did Thomas know her before she met the kids, and Ashley says a week. Andy asks is Thomas and Ashley had sex in the bathroom at the party. She says, no, and we flash back to them going into the bathroom together. Everyone is laughing. Shep says it’s cool, but Ashley says Thomas won’t do it anywhere but in bed. Kathryn mumbles that’s not true. Andy can’t think of another reason to be going into the bathroom together, but Ashley insists they were just trying to get private time away from the cameras. She has more class than that. Shep says he doesn’t have any.

Viewer Loretta from Akron tweets that Ashley is completely committed to getting engaged. We flash back to the million times she brought up rings and/or weddings. Andy says if he asked today, would she say yes. She hesitates, then says she’s not there yet, like any of us believe that. Andy asks what changed; the investigation? She says, not at all, but once she started working, she realized she should pump the brakes and enjoy dating. Everyone thought she got caught up in the money. Andy tells her that Tinsley Mortimer tweeted that she wants to be T-Rav’s widow. Ashley says she can meet someone with more money back home, and dated guys own age with more. It’s just a stereotype, and she was attracted to an accomplished man who works hard for what he’s got. Another viewer asks how Ashley felt when Thomas was flirting up a storm with Kathryn, and wonders what she’s doing with that d-bag. Ashley insists it didn’t bother her; she was right there. Shep thought it was awkward. He said, I love you to Kathryn in French. Not only that – and this is me saying it, not Shep – it was the familiar way of saying it, je t’aime. Ashley says she feels secure in the relationship. Shep is like, okay, and we flash back to a couple of jealous moments from Ashley. She says she knows he’s coming home with her. Andy says she had to know it would upset Kathryn to post the Halloween picture of her with the children. She says Thomas posted it, and Kathryn could have been there; she was invited. Kathryn asks why she would want to go trick-or-treating with her and Thomas, and it should have been Thomas’s place to invite her, not Ashley’s. Ashley claims she could have stayed at the house and pass out candy. Andy asks if Kathryn believes that, and she says, no. The rest of the world agrees.

Andy asks if Ashley has any regrets about spending $10K of Thomas’s money. I thought he said $20K when they were at the polo match. Ashley tries to pretend she didn’t know he was paying, even though she used his credit card. Then she claims she was going to bring the clothes back, but Thomas insisted she keep them because Patricia approved. Kathryn says, despite how it looks, Thomas is beyond frugal. She’s never seen him do that. Ashley says maybe just with her. Kathryn guesses she just wasn’t deserving of nice things. Ashley says he gave her two, and Kathryn says like she didn’t give them to him; nice. Andy mentions how Patricia had rooted for the relationship between Thomas and Ashley, and asks what’s going on now? Ashley says she has no relationship with Patricia. In the beginning, Patricia told her, maybe it was selfish, but she wanted them together just so Kathryn couldn’t get back together with Thomas. Ashley’s biggest regret is going shopping with her, when should have gone with Kathryn. Everyone looks confused, including me. Andy asks what happened to turn Patricia around. Ashley seems to think it started with social media systematically sabotaging her relationship with Patricia. She’s alluding to someone saying bad things about her, and Thomas targeting Patricia in return. Shep says Patricia isn’t in charge of what other people say. She had been good to Thomas. Andy asks if they’re speaking now, but Shep says, it’s over.

Andy says the group packed up their emotional baggage to take a trip to Hilton Headache. Shep explains how he walked into a glass door while busy talking smack. Craig’s finger is brought into the conversation, and Shep says it’s mangled because Craig waited too long to go to the hospital. Moving on to what we’ve been waiting for. Ashley was insistent about being invited to Saint’s second birthday party. A viewer ask on what planet she thought she as being appropriate. Ashley says it could have been any party; she just wanted to be included. Andy says they made the effort to include her on the trip to Hilton Head, but she became feverishly obsessed with the birthday party. We flash back to what’s starting to eclipse LuAnn’s fall in the bushes, and I say, nasty out loud. Andy said there was an overwhelming response, and reads comments, including one that calls Ashley literally the devil. We flash back to more of Ashley making a fool of herself. Chelsea says she cried when they left. She can’t imagine hearing what Ashley said to Kathryn. Naomie says she was holding Kathryn’s hand, and she was trembling. Andy asks how Kathryn kept her composure. She says her kids are more important than responding. Cameran says she wasn’t there, but her reaction as a viewer was that she couldn’t believe it. Andy brings up Chelsea saying Thomas and Ashley weren’t allowed back in the house if Kathryn was uncomfortable. Kathryn says she appreciated that, but Thomas’s reaction was scary. Chelsea says she was terrified he’d jump the bench in the ferry. We see a clip of Thomas being a nutjob. Andy wonders why the guys didn’t react like Southern gentlemen, and Austen says he did. Chelsea says when Austen stood up, she thought there was going to be a fight. Cameran adds that he seemed comfortable screaming. Kathryn says it’s the real Thomas. When he becomes unhinged, the façade falls, and his eyes turn black. Ashley tells her that Thomas says the same things about her. I find that highly doubtful. Cameran says a man should never approach a woman like that. No one should speak to anyone like that. Craig says he’s never seen anyone talk to a girl like that. Cameran thinks Ashley is scared of him, but Ashley insists she’s not. Andy says she seemed to be smirking when Thomas got in Chelsea’s face on the boat, and asks why she called them enablers, and Ashley says they should hold Kathlyn accountable. Kathryn says she’s been holding herself accountable for years, and Ashley is trying to discredit her by calling her friends enablers. Andy says she takes random drug tests, and Ashley asks how many she’s taken. Kathryn says she doesn’t know, and Ashley claims it’s four, and she barely made the last one. They stayed late for her. Kathryn says she was working, and Ashley says she’s lucky she made it, or it would count as a fail. She would have been there early. Kathryn says Ashley is really out of touch with the fact she’s a complete a-hole. Ashley’s head explodes, and everyone laughs. I laugh loudest.

A viewer says they were scared for Chelsea when Ashley kept repeating name on the staircase. Was she freaked out? Chelsea says she was, and it was a horrible thing to say. We see a clip of Ashley saying giving birth doesn’t make you a mother. Ashley agrees she was being a bitch. Chelsea is concerned that there’s no remorse over her outburst. An apology would have smoothed things over. Craig says he thought they wouldn’t come back. Shep says it seemed to embolden them, like it was them against the world. Andy asks if Ashley regrets saying anything, and she says, absolutely. She can’t defend herself; her behavior is indefensible… and scary. She should have pulled Kathryn aside for a private conversation if she had issues. Then, in blaming everything except her own black heart, she says she picked the worst time and place. Kathryn is glad she did what she did. It showed her true colors. Ashley gets stuck on the wrong time and place. Craig says, what about the content? She says she shouldn’t have brought it up, but it was how she was feeling. Kathryn says what hurts is that she’s not sorry for what she said. Cameran says, it was a backhanded apology. Andy asks if Ashley believes what said, and she says she does. Andy says that viewers think Thomas was selling her out in his interviews. Craig says he compared her to a dog chasing a chew toy, and we see him saying that – almost. Andy is surprised it’s not a bone of contention, and Ashley says Thomas is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Shep tells her, don’t be a rock. Cameran mentions how Thomas used Kathryn to bait her. Cameran says she screwed up, but she doesn’t think Ashley is aware of it. Ashley says Thomas’s stupid comments are entertainment for her. Craig says she’s like the old Kathryn, and Ashley says no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Kathryn says she does. Cameran says Charleston is a small town, and it’s common knowledge their relationship is volatile. Shep says if she acted that way when she knew cameras were one her, Lord only knows. Chelsea had mentioned Thomas was seen throwing food at her outside a restaurant. Ashley says that she wanted to leave, and had handed him to food. She was upset, and being a brat. Chelsea and Craig both says it’s a red flag. Cameran wonders what it says about a man who talks poorly about the mother of his children. He said horrible things about Ashley to everyone. Ashley says a lot has changed, and Austen says she’s in denial. Cameran says she’s lying to herself. Ashley asks if it’s an intervention, and Chelsea says they’re trying to help. Andy asks if it doesn’t give her pause that they’ve all seen it before. Kathryn feels bad watching her; being her from years ago. Cameran says he’s not a nice person. Ashley says we all have bad moments; a lot changed. Craig says they’re looking out for her, but she says they’re wrong. Cameran says she should give herself a nice life while she can.

Andy says it took five years for Patricia to reach out the olive branch, and invite Kathryn to her Winter Wonderland Ball. Now that she’s a mother, Kathryn thinks it started when she told Whitney fall on a knife. We see that clip. Andy asks if they’ve been in touch since the ball. Kathryn says Patricia requested her presence when they crossed paths at a restaurant. She apologizes, saying she’s seen Kathryn’s transform. She feels bad for saying what she did without getting to know Kathryn. Cameran can confirm that Patricia is genuinely sorry, and looks at Kathryn in a new light. Andy brings up the rumor about Ashley being an escort, and says it’s a serious allegation. Austen says he has no problem with it, because, her behavior. His roommate has friends in Santa Barbara who might have mentioned it Ashley says that’s disgusting, and shame on him. I still say she isn’t put together enough mentally or emotionally to be a high-end escort. Or even a streetwalker. Austen says if it was his girlfriend being talked about, he’d want to know. Ashley says the rumor came from a person Thomas rejected. Kathryn says she heard Thomas signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), and it’s like a business relationship. Ashley calls her a liar, and Craig thinks Thomas is scared she’ll testify against him. He let her get too clse, and wants to keep her there. She says she’d never do that because she has a conscience. Andy is surprised they haven’t broken up, and she says they see each other’ heart. Kathryn thinks Thomas doesn’t trust she won’t go to the media, and she might be crazy enough to threaten him. Ashley says, it takes one to know one, because we’re ten. Andy says they seemed on the verge of breaking up a bunch of times, and we see clips of that. Craig says he was about to call it quits right in front of them. Ashley says she wasn’t happy with her own life, but she’s very secure now. And they’re not invited to the wedding. Everyone laughs, and she asks if Andy will officiate

Andy says she went outside at the ball to apologize, but it quickly tuned into a nasty brawl. Ashley says she had pure intentions, and Kathryn asks what changed. She said worse things than she did in Hilton Head. We revisit that. Any asks if she believes Kathryn is nothing more than an egg donor. Ashley says she apologized, and felt attacked. Kathryn says Ashley was the one doing the attacking, and Ashley says Kathryn followed her. Kathryn says Ashley walked away. She tells Ashley, screw her for saying it. It’s not okay to say to any mother ever; it’s beyond disrespectful. She feels badly that Ashley doesn’t see it. She hopes if Ashley is ever a mother she learns this. She’s around Kathryn’s children, and saying things about and to her is disturbing. Ashley tries defending herself, saying Kathryn lost custody. Kathryn says Ashley has known her less than a year. In that time, has there been anything she’s done to bring Ashley to the point of saying she’s nothing more than an egg donor, or is she judging Kathryn by things told to her by Thomas about the past. Ashley says, yes, but she would love to make it right. Andy asks what it would take to convince her, and Ashley wants a private conversation. Shep asks if she wants to hear Kathryn’s side of the story. Ashley says, no, but they could relate. Huh? Craig seems to think Ashley was brainwashed, since she can’t see the truth the entire group is giving her. Andy gives it up to Kathryn. It would have caused him to get physical. He doesn’t know how she walked away. Kathryn says watching it, she was able to confirm that she’s gotten to know herself and her self-worth, and act accordingly. As a mother, she doesn’t want Ashley around her children. She’s unkind, hateful, and sadistic. Unfortunately, if she has to be the one to deliver that message to her this way, she’ll do it. She’s done. Ashley whines that she wants to make amends, and Kathryn suggests she focus on loving herself. Andy thanks Ashley, and says he’ll her see her at the wedding. Well played, Kathryn. Well played.

Ashley departs, and everyone agrees, what a day. Craig says, it was different, and k wonders how naïve anyone can be. They all agree Thomas won’t like it.

Ashley says where she goes from here is a hard question. Her judgment was in question, but they’re not living her life. They’re not with Thomas 24/7. Maybe she was brainwashed in the beginning. This is what she gets for judging Kathryn. Maybe she wasn’t clear enough, but she stood by what she said. It’s hard with no support. She thinks Thomas deserves it too. He’s her best friend, and she’s not ready to throw in the towel. Despite what they say, she’s happy, and she’s not going anywhere.

It’s the final moments. Andy says through the ebbs and flows, and Hurricane Ashley who took the wind out of everyone’s sails, the friendship is solid between everyone. He asks if Craig thinks he’ll ever be friends with Naomie. Craig says if he could go back, he would change everything.  Naomie asks him to just respect her relationship and be happy for her. Shep confirms his friendship with Kathryn, and says she knows if she needs anything, he’ll drop everything. He’s also realized he’s the oldest one there. Cameran calls him, the elder. Andy asks if becoming a mom has given Cameran more patience with the guys, and she says, absolutely. Austen and Chelsea are still great friends, and happy about each other’s new relationship. Andy asks for a round of applause for Kathryn, who came out on top, showing her restraint. We find out Austen’s beer will be out late summer/early fall. He still has a couple more hoops to jump through.

Cups of Austen’ beer is brought out, with a Coke for Kathryn, who jokingly asks if Andy means the Coca Cola kind. Andy asks Shep to make the toast, as the elder statesman. He says five years ago, no one could have dreamt this, and who knows how many more? Cheers to those who wish us well, and all who don’t, can rot in hell. Everyone loves the beer. I’ll miss them.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

For the first time in the history of this blog (where is Gordon Ramsay to say that?), because life got in the way, I wasn’t able to get through editing. And trust me, even I can barely read my shorthand. I will be getting Thursday’s General Hospital episode and this week’s Southern Charm (which was great) out asap. But right now, sleep calls…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny talks to Diane on the phone. He doesn’t care about procedure. He just wants to get in to see Carly. Felix thinks he and Mike should go finish something upstairs. Sonny says, impossible is not an option. Mike sees the picture of himself and Charlie. He tells Felix that he knows these guys, and asks if Sonny is in trouble.

At Ferncliff, Carly paces wearing a straitjacket.

Elizabeth leaves another message for Franco. She’s getting worried leave. Griff asks if she’s okay. She tells him Franco went to the police with something, and sometimes the more he tries to help – Griff finishes, the more hot water he finds himself in. He thinks it’s natural to be worried

Valentin goes to the launch on the docks. He hears Franco groaning, then sees him struggle up from behind some crates. Franco starts to walk toward him, saying, I know you, but falls over before he reaches Valentin.

Sam sees Maxie at the hospital. They make small talk about James, and Maxie tells them to come by and see him. Sam asks if she has a minute, and Maxie says her parents just absconded with her newborn, so she has nothing but time. I guess she also has a maid. Sam tells her that she’s been crossed off the list of suspects in regard to Peter. Maxie asks if there are any other leads. Sam asks when was the last time she saw Nina?

Nina has untied Peter, and starts to help him up. Obrecht walks in with a Molotov cocktail in her hand, and says, you break my heart, niece, and Henrik has come to end of the road. Nina says he can barely walk, he’s starving, and stinks. Obrecht says it’s every bit of what he deserves, but Nina says no one does; not even Peter. Obrecht says, Henrik killed her brother. Nina says, and he’s not coming back. She tells Obrecht to put the bottle down, but Obrecht says, no; it’s over. She’s been left no choice.

Felix suggests he and Mike finish a game they started. Mike shrugs him off, and asks if Sonny knows who it is in the picture; it’s Charlie and he’s connected. Sonny says he’s not around anymore. Felix touches Mike’s shoulder, but Mike tells Felix to get his hands off of him, saying he doesn’t know him. Sonny says, he’s Felix, his nurse. Mike says he probably works for Charlie, but Sonny says no one there works for Charlie. Mike says he needs Sonny’s help. He needs to get a message to his son. His name is Michael Corinthos Jr., but he goes by Sonny. Does he know him? Sonny says, yeah, and Mike asks if Sonny is one of his enemies. Sonny says, not today, and Mike asks what he means. Sonny says they work together. Mike says he has to find him, and tell him to stay away from Charlie’s place. Nothing good is waiting for him there. Sonny promises.

Rupert and Mary Pat walk into Carly’s cell. She asks if Mary Pat had to brig reinforcements. Mary Pat says she’s clearly agitated, and Dr. Lazarus has prescribed her a sedative. Carly says her psychiatrist is Dr. Collins, and Mary Pat says he’s visiting his wife in Europe. Carly says Dr. Lazarus doesn’t know how to treat her, but Mary Pat says he was walked through her history, including her recent outburst and elopement. Carly is like, elopement? and Mary Pat says, the word escape has negative connotations. Carly says Mary Pat told the doctor her story, now it’s her turn, but Mary Pat says Dr. Lazarus is all about control, not talk. Carly knows her rights, and says she refuses treatment. Mary Pat says patient decisions aren’t up to her.

Valentin asks if Franco can hear him. He starts to make a call, and he sees the broken bottle. He picks up the shard with the label on it, using his handkerchief, because everyone carries those. Chase appears, telling him to drop the weapon, and put his hands where he can see them.

Maxie suggests they back up. Obrecht has every reason hate Peter, but she sees her all the time; she was at the shower. Sam says they discovered she hasn’t been living at home, but in a cabin in the woods. Curtis says she claimed she was meeting someone special there. Maxie says, good; she needs to lighten up. Curtis say the evidence suggests she’s been keeping someone against their will, and the CSU found traces of blood. Maxie asks if they think she killed him.

Obrecht says she knew this day would come. Nina never had the spine or stomach for it. Nina says she’s right. If she had a backbone, she’d have stopped this insanity. Obrecht says they’re past the possibility of letting Henrik live; it’s not up to her. Nina says if he knew about this, Nathan would be ashamed of both of them; what they did and what they’re capable of. It’s over. Obrecht is inclined to agree. Nina says she has two choices. Plead her case as a grieving mother, like she is, or run. Nina is hoping she stays.

Valentin tells Chase he was about to call for help. Chase says, with a broken bottle? Valentin says, no, with a phone. He saw the bottle, and thought it might be the instrument used to knock Franco out. Chase thinks it sounds plausible, but tells Valentin to exercise his right to remain silent until he’s downtown. He can explain it there.

Griff ask if Elizabeth has had any word from Franco. She says, not yet. She’s going through some files, and says she gets angry every time she sees David’s name. Griff says, innocent until proven guilty, but she thinks he should be suspended until the case is settled. Griff wishes he knew what to tell her. She asks how Kiki is doing, and Griff says some people have asked her how can she ruin a man’s career. Elizabeth wonders how she responded to that, and Griff says she told them, if he’s such a good man and cared about his career, he wouldn’t have done what he did. In the meantime, he and Kiki have to walk the same halls. Elizabeth says at least she has their support.

Sam tells Maxie there’s no proof Peter is dead. Maxie says it’s understandable that Obrecht would want him to suffer. but she adores James. She has the chance to get moments she never had with Nathan. Sam asks if she’s been around, and Maxie admits, not really. Curtis wonders if Nina would know where she is, and Maxie asks if he’s suggesting Nina is involved with Peter’s disappearance. Sam tells her that they’re not saying she was involved, and Curtis says, but she might know something. She has the motive and means. If she had the opportunity, would she take it? Maxie says, no. She hates him, but would never do that. Curtis says Nina is his friend too. It’s the last thing he wants to believe, but it’s imperative they find out where she is. Maxie asks if they’re trying to rule her out, and Sam says, even if she’s not involved, she could lead them to Obrecht.

Obrecht asks if Nina expects her to throw herself on the mercy of the police – and Henrik. Peter says she’s right not to trust him, considering how she grew up. She says her childhood, her whole life with Faison, was one long parade of inadequacies. She was never good enough for her parents, Faison, or Anna. Nina says, screw Anna. Obrecht says she might have failed in their expectations, but they also failed in hers. She doesn’t owe anyone anything, and is going to finish it her way.

Sonny tells Mike that when he gets the all clear, he’ll send the message. Mike says he has to go now, but Sonny says to trust him. Felix approaches Mike, who tells him to stay away. He asks, who this guy? and wonders if they should be talking in front of him. Sonny says it’s Felix. Mike’s son hired him; he has his word. Mike asks, who the hell is he? Sonny’s phone rings, and Felix says it’s probably the all clear. It’s Diane, and Sonny tells her that he doesn’t care. Find a judge that owes him a favor or needs one, or he’ll find a way to get in himself. Mike grabs the phone, saying the place could be bugged. Sonny says he just got he all clear. He’s going to go, and asks Felix to stay. Mike insists it’s not safe, but Sonny says his son asked him to take care of Mike. Mike asks Sonny what his name is, and Sonny says, Michael.  Mike says it’s the same as his son’s. Sonny says, and his. He tells Mike that he’s Sonny’s right-hand man. His son cares a lot about him. Mike says he doesn’t know about that, and Sonny says he talks about him all the time. Mike sarcastically says he bets it’s all good, and Sonny says, about 60/40. Mike says that sounds about right; 60 bad, 40 good. Sonny tells Mike that his son asked him to keep him safe. He knows he’ll treat Mike with the same respect and concern that he treats his own dad. He asks if Mike can let him honor him by taking care of him. Mike nods and breaks my heart yet again.

Mary Pat tells Carly to hold still; it’s easier if she doesn’t fight. Carly asks if it’s worth losing everything she cares about. He’ll take everything she think is hers, and bankrupt her when she’s sued for over-drugging Carly. She has people to avenge her, and they’re experts. What sounds better, to take her back to her room or lose everything?

Curtis tells Maxie that they’re working on a theory. Nina is the closest connection to Nathan. He asks if she’s spent time with James, and Maxie says Nina has been busy. Sam asks if she’s been at Crimson, and Maxie admits her assistant complained she’s been AWOL. Curtis asks if she’s been distracted or preoccupied. Maxie says she just left her husband; it’s enough to throw anyone off. She went home to pack her bags. Curtis says there’s a quarantine on Spoon Island, and Sam asks where Nina is staying. Maxie says at the MetroCourt, and remembers her take-out order was huge enough to feed two or three people. She says, oh crap. The other day, Nina asked how she would feel if Peter died, but Sam asked her the same question. Curtis asks what she said, and Maxie says the same thing she told Sam. Peter deserves to suffer, but it won’t bring back Nathan. She tells them to keep her in the loop, and if she sees Nina, she’ll let them know. Curtis gets a call, and thinks they should turn their attention to Franco.

Nina says Obrecht left her in an impossible situation. Obrecht says Henrik gets her brother killed, and she’s the villain? Nina tells her, you can’t be torturing a man if you don’t want to be thought of as a villain. Obrecht says she gave up Nathan to protect him. She didn’t even gaze in his direction; she was so afraid Faison would take him. Peter asks why she loved him. She says she couldn’t help it, but she was never blind. He wanted a son to be like him. Now her beautiful boy is buried in the ground, and his son is still breathing. So she must finish this her way, with or without Nina.

At the hospital, Elizabeth asks Griff how bad Franco’s injuries are? Griff says he has a nasty cut, and they’re waiting on the CT scan. Chase pops in, asking if Franco is still out. There’s a suspect in custody, but he thinks they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Griff says he’s been in and out. Chase asks if he mentioned any names. Griff says, no, but he’s had one helluva blow.

Nina says Obrecht lost time with Nathan; she did too. She missed him growing up, his childhood, and the incredible man he turned into. She feels the loss every second of every day. She hates Faison and Anna, but that doesn’t justify what they’ve done. It’s crazy. Revenge won’t bring her brother back. Obrecht says she needs to think. Nina begs her to let Peter go. This is over.

Felix tells Sonny that Mike is resting. Sonny doesn’t know what’s wrong. He knows, but he’s never seen him that bad. Felix asks how Sonny is doing, and Sonny says he’s not the one fading away. Felix says, with all due respect, he’s going through a lot. Carly is at Ferncliff, now his father. Felix knows Sonny doesn’t open a vein easily, and doesn’t have to talk to him, but he’s there. Sonny appreciates it, but he has people who love him. Felix knows that, but they’re not there all the time, and don’t know what he’s going through. His dad’s days are more confusing, and his lapses are lasting longer. He asks Sonny if he’s looked at the brochures Stella brought. Sonny says, the facilities? He’s not ready for that. Felix says because he loves Mike, he feels like he’ll be throwing away precious time left, but he wouldn’t be; not if he did it right. He could see Mike every day, and let the staff deal with the headaches and tantrums. They can be a buffer, so he can spend quality time with Mike. Sonny says he makes it sound appealing. Felix is just asking him to think about it, and Sonny promises he will. Just not today. He has somewhere to be.

Rupert tells Mary Pat that maybe Carly is right. They should take her back to her cell, and continue with the regiment Doc provided. It would be better for them. Mary Pat is surprised at Rupert, and Carly says he has a better take than she does. Mary Pat tells Rupert to hold her tight; she needs a big dose. Carly says, Sonny Corinthos. Remember that name. When everything goes bad, she’ll know who did it. Mary Pat plunges the syringe into Carly.

Maxie tells the nurse at the desk she’s looking for updates on the West Nile virus, since she has a newborn, and there’s a quarantine. The nurse looks on the computer, and tells her there’s no quarantine. There’s been no case listed in Port Charles for over ten years.

Valentin tells Chase if anyone has dusted for fingerprints they won’t find his. Chase says he could have wiped them off, and Valentin says they won’t find any then. Chase says he believes Valentin. Guys like him hire people; they don’t like getting their hands dirty. Valentin says, thank you, and Chase says he deduced that before he looked at Valentin’s file; he has a record a mile long. Valentin is impressed with his prowess. Now can he use his reasoning to get him out? He has to get to Windemere. Chase says he saw the sign that it’s under quarantine. Nothing life or death is happening there.

Sam tells Elizabeth that she takes it Franco never made it to the police station? Elizabeth explains about Franco getting hurt, but Sam says it’s not exactly a straight line from the docks to the station. Curtis says they’re not accusing him of anything, and Sam adds, not this time. Franco calls out for Elizabeth, and she runs into the examining room. She says she was worried about him. He asks what happened, and she asks if he remembers who attacked him.

Obrecht says she thought Nina understood. She can’t let Henrik go. Nina says she doesn’t have a choice anymore, but Obrecht says, there are always choices. She sees Nine, whose heart is just as fractured, made hers; Nina is supposed to be on her side. Nina starts to cry, saying, she is. She brought Obrecht this far because she knew Nathan wouldn’t want his mother grieving alone. It’s not grief anymore; it’s madness. Obrecht says madness is a world in which filth like Henrik endure and thrive, and those like Nathan are extinguished. Nina can call her mad, but is she not entitled to her voice? Nina asks what she’s talking about. Obrecht says she’s done so much for others; for Faison, for Nathan, and even for Nina, but now it’s her turn. At last, she does something for Liesl.

Felix asks Mike how his nap was, and Mike says it was just what he needed. He asks where Sonny is, and Felix tells him that Sonny is running errands. Mike says something wrong is wrong, but Felix says Sonny is a capable man. Mike says, a father knows things like this, and he’s in trouble.

At Ferncliff, Sonny sees Rupert, and says he wants to see his wife. Rupert says he can’t help; it’s not up to him. Sonny says they had an arrangement. Rupert is powerless? He’s not. He has a lot of resources and a long memory. Those who help him, get rewarded; those who don’t, will see what’s coming. It’s his last chance. Where is she? Rupert says he wishes he could help, but he can’t, and jets.

Carly is falling out, and Mary Pat says, isn’t this better? It’s not so hard being good, is it? And look what she found. She shows Carly the burner phone, and says this type of thing is a no-no. Nothing must disrupt the healing process. She leaves, and we see Carly is in a padded cell. She leans against the wall.

Nina says she doesn’t know what’s going on in Obrecht’s head, but she needs to snap out of it. Obrecht says they need to complete the final chapter with the man who killed her son. Nina says Faison is dead; mission accomplished. Obrecht says there’s one more character who needs to exit. The story is over, and it’s time to close book once and for all. She takes out Faison’s lighter.

Valentin tells Chase if he values his badge, he’ll take off the cuffs and let him go. Chase says he was found at the scene of a crime, standing over the victim. Until Franco clears him, he’s staying. Valentin says, then he wants his lawyer. He has matters to attend to.

Sam asks who attacked Franco. He says he had the most amazing dream. He says, and you were there, looking at Elizabeth, but you weren’t there, looking at Curtis and Sam. I die laughing. I love Todd… I mean, Franco. Curtis tells him to answer the question. Elizabeth asks he remembers who did it. He says it was Obrecht.

Maxie sees the quarantine sign at the pier. She talks to someone on the phone, asking how soon the launch can be at the pier. She needs to get to Spoon Island. She takes the sign down.

Peter scoots across the floor, trying to distance himself. Nina begs Obrecht not to do it. Obrecht quotes from The Severed Branch. Now all that’s left of my father is me and the memento took before our final farewell. I knew the day would come when I might have to burn my life down. She lights the rag, and throws the bottle.

This episode was rather sad. Lots of excellent performances too.

Tomorrow, Nina yells for help, Nelle asks how to get away with murder, and Diane visits Carly.

Southern Charm – The Reunion – Part One

The cast prepares and has breakfast. They’re waiting on Kathryn to get her boobs situated in her dress, and we see a few clips of what’s to come. We watch Ashley get out of the limo.

Andy tells us to spike the sweet tea and get ready for the dishing the drama. He says Kathryn’s girls look bigger, and she says perhaps they grew unnaturally. Andy wants a pillow from Craig, and Austen brought him some beer. Naomi says she and Craig have moved past awkwardness, but from the look on his face, I’m not so sure about that. Thomas won’t be joining them. The message from his attorney claims that Bravo and their client made a mutual decision not to attend, because of the pending investigation. Thomas is being fully cooperating with authorities, and expects to be completely vindicated. He sends his best regards to his fans and fellow cast mates. Cameran thinks it’s the right decision. Shep says there’s a part of Thomas that he doesn’t love. We see Kathryn’s Instagram shots with him and the kids, but she’s staying out of it until the investigation is concluded. Andy says he’s being accused of raping the nanny. Naomie says he’s always been lovely to her, but he can be volatile. Andy announces that Ashley will be joining them, and Kathryn says, yay! She’s nervous about it, but Shep says he’s interested in what she has to say. Andy says she didn’t call Shep a bad mother.

Andy asks what changed, since there was a lot of girl power this season. Naomie says that she knows Kathryn can be a friend, and they talk about hanging out through the summer. Kathryn says girl power means standing up for your self-worth, knowing it, and acting accordingly. We see a clip of Naomie lacing into JD (bleh). Naomie says she didn’t want him to rule the narrative because Elizabeth wasn’t there. A viewer doesn’t think Naomie has room to talk after tolerating Craig’s lies. She wishes she hadn’t put up with it, and says it’s why she was so rude. She should have left sooner. Craig wants to know one lie he told, and she brings up the bar exam. He insists he never lied. My respect for Craig has waned this season. The pillow thing with Patricia clinched it.

Andy says Chelsea called JD a con artist, and she says she heard about his late nights with young women, although he comes across as a sweet, family man. Cameran says he has a reputation, and she wasn’t surprised. Austen wants more evidence. A viewer says Kathryn’s comments on the good old boys era dying were brilliant. She says the MO was to paint a woman as crazy to discredit them. Andy says Elizabeth attacked Naomie on Twitter after the episode aired, and said the allegations she made about JD and the family weren’t true. Chelsea asks if JD got Elizabeth’s password. Naomie tells them everything she said had been approved by Elizabeth, and it’s a shame she’s covering for him again. Naomie says she knew 100%, and thinks she backtracked when it got attention. She thinks JD is controlling and manipulative.

Andy asks if current climate has influenced things, and Cameran thinks it did for Thomas. Shep says the men have had to take stock of the last twenty years of their lives. Andy brings up Chelsea’s bad experience with Shep trying to kiss her. He asks if Shep feels a shift in his sense of entitlement, and Shep says he does. Andy asks, now that Cameran has a daughter, does she look at the antics of her male friends any differently. She says, yes, and he asks who she’d pick for Palmer to date. She says, Austen, and Craig says, that’s because he’s the only one who would date a two-year-old. Ha-ha!

Ashley talks to the hairdresser about how she flips her hair when she’s nervous, and asks if she can do something. Besides knock her out? BTW, she looks like crap.

Craig ask if Ashley is listening, but Andy says she isn’t. He says their favorite realtor has moved into a new development called motherhood, and is juggling everything without being rattled. Cameran says it’s not all puppies and rainbows. Palmer crawled for the first time yesterday, but she missed it. Andy asks if her husband attended birth classes, and she says she watched YouTube videos. He’s desensitized, and not the most supportive; she expected more. Andy asks if he was a good partner during labor. She says he was in the room, and the nurse finally told him he need to get up and help his wife. Andy is surprised he wasn’t a more active participant.

A viewer asks why Patricia’s guest list wasn’t made according to Cameran’s wishes. Cameran says according to Patricia and the etiquette book, whoever is celebrating the guest of honor, chooses the guests. She says she didn’t agree with not inviting Kathryn, and called her beforehand. Kathryn says she didn’t want Cameran to be concerned, since the day was about her. Andy asks who was behind the cake design – a baby popping out of a vagina – but Cameran says the only agreed if it wasn’t revealed who they were. Everyone laughs about Craig’s half-made teddy bear that he gave to Cameran, and we flash back to that. Cameran says she was laughing because he was so earnest. It didn’t come to fruition, but he tried. She does think it represents the bigger picture. Craig makes the excuse of using too advanced of a pattern. Austen says he thought it was a sweet gesture.

A viewer thinks Cameran seems emotional detached, like she’s not crazy about motherhood. Andy asks about post-partum. Cameran says she was never diagnosed, but cried every day. It’s a shock to your system, and your life is forever different. Now she feels genuine overwhelming love, but it didn’t happen immediately; there wasn’t an instant connection. Andy asks if Kathryn felt the same way, but she says she broke in tears when she saw her babies for the first time. Cameran says it’s not the same for everyone. Cameran announced on Twitter that she was retiring her boobs by choice and quitting breastfeeding because she’s over it. She says she got some negative comments, but a lot of women felt the same way. They get pressure from society, but the mental health of the mother is more important than the extra nutrition the baby might get. Kathryn thinks society has a standard that everything has to be perfect, non-GMO, green, and everything is fine. Andy asks if there’s more pressure in Charleston, and Cameran thinks there is more in the South. They have the expectation of the white picket fence life. Andy asks for her best piece of advice, and she says, accept help. She wishes she had accepted more. Moms need a break.

Ashley says blah-blah-blah to the hairdresser, and that she’s looking forward to it being over.

Andy tells us that Craig went on an eat-drink-sew journey. He tried to pursue his pillow passion, until he stabbed himself with a butter knife. Andy assumes he was drunk, and Craig says they were taking down a wall in the new house. He saw the butter knife, and went to stick it in the wall. He hit a stud, and his hand kept going. Craig shows everyone his wonky finger. Andy mentions Cameran being skeeved out by Craig’s house, and the consensus is that he’s always been a slob. Andy asks if he has any plans to practice law. Craig says he’s an attorney now, and plans on doing twenty to thirty pro bono hours a week. He thinks it’s a good way to get his feet wet. Shep likes his pillow gig.

They talk about Craig saying his life would be easier if he was gay. He thinks he should make a pillow that says, straight guys can sew too. Andy says, real men watch Bravo, and asks if he would be Craig’s first call. Craig says he had to leave the gardening and woodshop behind after he moved, but he gets high off creation. Andy brings up him blowing his opportunity with Patricia. He says he bit off more than he could chew (one whole pillow design), and put it off. He thinks people are controlled by things, and he doesn’t want to be controlled by people, and deadlines are initiated by them. I think this is code for, I don’t want to work. Andy says he lost the job, and Craig says art and commerce don’t mix. Deadlines aren’t important. Naomie begs to differ, saying you have to pay your taxes on time. She’s still getting notices from the IRS about him not informing them of his new address. Andy says it’s the reason he and Naomie broke up. Craig doesn’t think that’s the reason. He says love is unconditional, and he would have loved Naomie no matter what. Andy asks if he doesn’t want more for a partner, and Naomie thinks he’s romanticizing in his head. Naomie says he keeps talking over her, and he does. It’s annoying me too. She tells him she doesn’t miss that, and Craig says her life is sad, even though she says she’s happy. She posts pictures on Instagram to prove it. She asks why he’s bothering her there. He says he didn’t, until she posted a pic of her new boy and his (meaning Craig’s) cat. Craig says she admitted she doesn’t have feelings for the new guy. Naomie is like, what? and he says she told someone that. She says that’s completely made up, but Kathryn says she did say that. Naomie asks if she’s in the Twilight Zone? Kathryn reminds her about a conversation about not getting butterflies anymore, and Naomie says she was referring to Craig. Kathryn admits maybe she misunderstood.

Andy says Craig admitted to the life coach that he was a good liar, and master manipulator. Craig claims he didn’t say he lies, but that he’s good at it. Wow. That’s a good spin. He was referring to how, in the past, he’s been incapable of holding himself accountable. He would justify and excuse things, lying to himself. He thinks it doesn’t ultimately matter unless there are severe consequences. Shep says he tells lies that don’t hurt anyone, but they stack up. Cameran says sometimes the lies are stupid. Andy asks if he’s still seeing the life coach, and he says he talks to her every week. Naomie isn’t buying it. Craig says Naomie wants to believe she didn’t throw away one of the best things to happen to her. She would have been rolling in pillows. Maybe. If there wasn’t a deadline on that.

Andy says, from feeding on Craig’s soul to stalking him, Naomie had a transformation, and he’s not just talking about her nose job. I hadn’t even known she had one, until Craig mentioned it on Watch What Happens Live. She says she wanted it since she was eight years old. Craig says he cried when saw it for the first time. It was a physical representation of losing the person he wanted to live his life with. Oh brother. Maybe he should write romance novels. Andy says there was a mixed reaction, but she says she’s unaffected by that; she’s happy with it. Craig thought she looked beautiful before. She still looks great, but he finds it sad to know she looked in the mirror and didn’t like what she saw. Naomie says it was just a tweak.

Andy states that Naomie suffers from psycho ex-girlfriend syndrome. We flash back to her telling the other girls how she’s been tracking him after they broke up. A viewer says if a man did that to a woman, it would be abuse. Andy asks if Craig knew, and he says they’d both had trackers, but he didn’t realize her tracking didn’t end when she said it did. Everything in her life is a lit. Shep says his life is an open book, and if you track him down, he’ll ask you to join him and buy you a beer and shot. I’m in. Andy asks if in another world they would get back together, and Naomie gives that a hard no. Craig says he would love to date the person he used to know. Andy thinks it seems like Craig is still in love with her. Craig says the y traveled the world together, but they’ll never find what they had again. The nose job was final confirmation of that. He’s not in love with her, but despises and hates her. Andy asks how many think he’s still in love with Naomie, and that would be everyone. Andy calls for a break.

Ashley continues to chatter backstage. She says Thomas told her to be authentic and sweet. Basically, the polar opposite of what she is. She says he’s seen her fiery side. He knows when she feels attacked, she lashes out. She says she doesn’t get angry, she gets even. She could have fooled me.

It’s Kathryn’s second year of sobriety. Andy says she’s done some serious work to better herself, and it’s admirable. She was twenty-one when the show started, and she’s now twenty-six. He asks if it’s her first time living on her own, and it is. He says there have been a lot of tweets about her cracked phone. She says while she’s been in recovery she’s done a lot of things, but finally got new phone, and shows everyone. A viewer asks if she’s never been on a job interview. It was one of the most excruciating things they’ve ever seen. It was pretty bad, and we flash back to that. Cameran says she had to change channel. Kathryn asks if she topped Landon, who I forgot was ever on this show. Cameran says they’ve all shopped at Gwenn’s. Andy wonders why Kathryn was nervous; she’s faced tougher situations. She says she didn’t want to disappoint them. She’s now moved up to brand ambassador, and does promotion. They just did a spread in Chelsea magazine, which I assume is a Southern thing. We see pictures, and Kathryn looks gorgeous. Andy says it’s nice to see her interact more with the kids. Kensie is her mini me, and Saint seems very grown-up. She says they started with every other weekend, and she now has joint custody; one week on, one off. He asks if she still has to take random drug tests, and she says she just took one. He asks if a part of her resents it, especially given what’s going on with Thomas.  She says she doesn’t have resentment, and knows she’s not going to fail it, but she knows it comes from a place of spite. Andy asks what helps her stay sober, and she says her kids. He asks what she attributes to getting along with Thomas, and she tells him that she’s numb to a lot of things. She wants to be a positive person. Andy says he’s still with Ashley; how hard is that? Kathryn says she tries not to think about it, and still believes she’s not going to be around forever. They haven’t spoken since the Ball.

Kathryn says she didn’t have a large support system last season, and she didn’t trust anyone, but now she has faith in humanity after getting to know everyone. Andy says her calling them friends is a watershed moment. She says that chapter is in the past. Everyone here has given her the opportunity to be herself. She gets teary, Cameran says she sees Kathryn in a different light now. She was more of a victim. When Thomas met her, she was still a child, and he took advantage of her and manipulated her. Thank you. She says he manipulated them to be against her. Looking back now, as a mother, she can’t imagine being alone. She has a husband and support, and has empathy for Kathryn. Cameran starts to cry, saying she can’t imagine how Kathryn felt. She apologizes, and Andy passes out tissues.

Kathryn tells them that Thomas convinced her of a different life than what transpired; he promised to support her. We see a clip of him doing just that, saying he’d back her with all that’s his. Cameran says they had been judgmental, and she can’t imagine what Kathryn went through as a mom with no support. Then, what she had to go through on top of that; it makes her sick. She has resentment and anger that Kathryn was treated unfairly. Kathryn says she knew how convincing Thomas could be, and this gives her affirmation that she wasn’t the crazy one. She knew nature would take its course. She appreciates being in a place where she’s understood. Andy says Cameran described her as a victim, but she flipped it around. Cameran says, she’s grown up. It’s been tough, and Kathryn has gone through more than all of them. Being so poised and put-together after being through hell says a lot about her.

Kathryn says she intends to have the last laugh. She’ll look back and it will all make sense. She tells Cameran, it means more than she knows. They’ve seen her grow up. Cameran says she’ll always be in Kathryn’s comer. Kathryn says it’s overwhelming. She’s let go of past; it’s all resolved. Andy asks if she feels like a different person, and she says, absolutely. She looks back, and knows that person. She became a shell of that person, and she’s different now, but better. Cameran feels awful, and doesn’t think they knew the half of it. Kathryn does a good job of putting on a great face. Kathryn says she had no option. Andy asks Cameran if having a child makes her look at things differently, and she says, for sure. She can’t imagine what it was like; Kathryn not being able to see her kids. She’s been away from Palmer for just a few days, and it makes her physically sick. She says you don’t know what it’s like unless you have a child. I dunno. I’ve supported Kathryn since the beginning, but I’ll let it pass. Andy assumes Cameran watched what Ashley said to Kathryn. Cameran calls Ashley a horrible human being.

Next time, part two of the reunion; Shep and Kathryn’s relationship is discussed, Ashley joins the group (to quote Kathryn – yay!), Andy brings up Ashley’s now non-existent relationship with Patricia, Craig tells Ashley that she looks like sh*t, Ashley asks if it’s an intervention, and Kathryn says she’s done with Ashley. This looks really good.

🍸 A Preview Quote…

You’re completely out of touch with the fact you’re a complete a-hole. – Kathryn to Ashley

🍬 A PS About Yesterday…

Although I managed to catch MasterChef (see July 19th’s post about July 18th), I had to skip 24 Hours to Hell and Back. I was disappointed, since there’s almost nothing better than Gordon Ramsay revealing things that make you never want to eat in a restaurant again. But you can’t watch ’em all and you need to sleep sometime.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Valentin tells Nina the stable master had a family emergency, so he has to take care of the horses himself. He’ll say hello to Lumiere for her. When he’s gone, Nina calls Obrecht, but it goes to voicemail. Nina says, put down whatever torture device you’re using and answer the phone.

Peter talks about what’s important in life as he dictates the book, ending with, the first time a mother reached out to hold her baby. Why, Octavian thought, do we never understand life’s value and true meaning until we’re about to lose it all? Obrecht calls it drivel. She says it’s supposed to be a brilliant sequel. His fate depends on it. Peter says they both know how it ends. When he finishes the story, she finishes him. She says, back to work. He has a deadline; no more stalling. No one is coming to his rescue.

Curtis meets Sam and Jordan at the MetroCourt. Curtis says they have footage that might prove how Peter vanished. Sam says, it’s more like he didn’t have a choice.

Stella sees mike Sonny and Mike at the hospital. Sonny says they’re waiting for a prescription. Mike says Griff suggested he take tango lessons, but he needs a dance partner. Sonny says Mike is an incurable flirt, and Stella hopes they never find a cure. She loves to tango, and Mike says he has himself a dance partner. Stella leaves to put a rush on the prescription. Sonny asks if Mike is okay, and he says he was just kidding around with Stella. It would be nice to have one last tango with someone that lovely. Maybe tonight at the wedding. He tells Sonny that he’s not losing a son, but gaining a daughter.

Alexis arrives at the Quartermaine’s. Michael thanks her for coming on short notice. She’s surprised he didn’t call Diane, but he says she’s his father’s lawyer. He’s his own man, and thought he’d get his own lawyer. She says, as opposed to the ELQ army he has. He says, that’s business, this is personal. He wants her to draw up a will. It wasn’t what she was expecting to hear from a groom on his wedding day. He says he wants to get it out of the way – the sooner the better. With the baby almost here, he can’t put it off. After today, everything changes. He wants to put the happiness and welfare of his family first. He wants to make sure the person who means the most is taken care of after he’s gone. Nelle listens from around the corner.

Mike talks about dancing with Sonny’s mother at their wedding. The family didn’t approve of him, so they eloped. He remembers someone saying, you may kiss the bride, and he did. Sonny’s mom said he was a terrific kisser. They had first dance. Adela loved to dance, and when he held her… He’s never forgotten how much he loved her. He says, when you find that one person… Sonny knows what he means.

Jordan tells Curtis and Sam there’s no way to tell if it’s Peter under the laundry, or who’s pushing the cart. Sam tells her to check out the shoes. They seem to be sensible work shoes, but look closer – a heel. Jordan assumes they’ve traced the brand. Sam says there’s only one website that sells them. Jordan says now they need a face to do with the shoes.

Peter asks Obrecht if Nina is coming back. He’s hungry, tired, and in pain; it’s not conducive to creativity. Obrecht thinks she has half a caramel stashed in her bag, but he says he doesn’t need a piece of candy; he needs Nina. Obrecht asks if she’s his muse, and he says she’s less likely to do him bodily harm. Obrecht shows him a riding crop, and says, instead of thinking of it as an instrument of pain, think of it as inspiration. He asks, what if Nina was arrested, and the police are on their way? She says it would be lucky for him. Her phone buzzes. She says it’s probably someone trying to sell healthcare, but checks it.

Nina finds Valentin at the docks, and tells him that he can’t go home. She got a call from environmental department, and they’re checking for West Nile virus on Spoon Island. He says it sounds a panicked bureaucrat afraid of losing their job, but she says it’s serious. She doesn’t think he should go there, and says it’s a good thing Charlotte is staying at Lulu’s. She tells him to stay at the MetroCourt; she’ll drive him. He says for someone whose divorcing him, she’s very concerned about his welfare, and asks if there’s another reason. An officer comes out. He says he’s been trying to get ahold of Valentin, and puts up a sign saying the launch is closed, and tells Valentin that Spoon Island is quarantined until further notice.

Sam tells Curtis they can cross Maxie off the list. She was in the hospital when Peter disappeared. He ask if she knows someone who would do it as a favor. She says, only Jason, but he’d tell her. He says Nina has the funds to hire someone to do her dirty work. Sam reminds him that she hired them to prove Valentin was an accessory. He says that leaves one woman who has the means, opportunity, and motive. Obrecht.

Peter says he warned Obrecht that the story might not end the way she wans it to. She says no one knows they’re at the stables. He says unless Nina let it slip. She only wanted justice. Obrecht says that’s what she wants, but Peter says, she wants revenge. Nina knows it’s wrong. Maybe in a moment of clarity, decency, and sanity, she confessed. Obrecht’s phone dings. The text says, West Nile detected. Obrecht says Nina managed to divert all curious parties away. She suggests they pick up where they left off.

Jordan sees Stella at the hospital. She’s looking for TJ, and Stella says he’s spending his spare time in medical library. Jordan tells Stella that she and Curtis would like her help in planning the wedding.

Mike asks Sonny what’s wrong. Sonny says, nothing, but Mike doesn’t buy it. He has that concerned look, like when he’s worried. He asks if something is wrong with the wedding, and Sonny says he might say that. Mike asks if the groom is getting cold feet.

Alexis tells Michael she’ll make a boilerplate, and when he gets back, they’ll fill in the blanks. She asks what’s the rush, and he says he wants to make sure the person he loves most will be completely taken care of. Alexis says she’ll make that happen. Go forth and get hitched. When he gets back. She’ll make sure his wishes are crystal clear. He says it’s pretty simple. He’s going to leave everything to his child. The sooner, the better. Alexis says, understood, and he thanks her for making it a priority

Stella tells Jordan that it’s early to be planning, especially without a date. Why not enjoy an old-fashioned courtship? Don’t spoil it. Jordan gets that they’ll never be best friends, but she and Curtis love each other, and they’re going to be married. It would mean a lot if she’d sit down to supper and plan the wedding with them. Stella agrees, but when Jordan is gone, she calls Shondra. She leaves a message, saying that she was thinking Shondra should visit. Curtis would love to see her. The sooner, the better (phrase of the day).

Curtis says it wouldn’t be the first time Obrecht crossed the line. Sam says she’s a doctor, and has access to sedatives. Sam says she was just with her at Maxie’s baby shower, and has a hard time believing yjr same woman celebrating her grandson’s birth is the one in the video. Curtis says maybe she’s upset that her grandson is without a father. She has a big ass motive that just got bigger. He thinks Nina knows or saw something. Either way, they’re talking to her.

Nina tells Valentin that he’s a refugee in a five-star hotel; boohoo. He says she cares about him, but she says Charlotte would be upset if he keeled over from West Nile. She has to deal with the magazine. He might have bought hem some time, but she has to provide real ads from real businesses with real products. Unless he wants her to be the laughing stock of the publishing industry and the entire world. He says she could have let him find out on his own, but instead, she raced to the docks. It could only mean one thing.

Nelle joins Michael, who wasn’t expecting to see her until the main event. He asks if she shouldn’t be getting dressed, and she asks if he loves her.

Nina tells Valentin, despite her non-positive feelings, she doesn’t want him walking into a mosquito hot zone. Human decency is the only reason. He says if he’s taking a suite there, they might find themselves next to each other. Curtis comes to the office, and Nina tells Valentin to go. Curtis tells Nina that he and Sam have a new theory. What can she tell him about Obrecht?

Peter dictates. A small glimmer of light, a symbol of hope. He drove into the night. The road long and dark stretching on forever. He stops and tells Obrecht she looks like needs rest. She says, when he’s dead. He says he was watching her, and she looks like she could almost be a mother, a mother in pain. She says that’s who she is, and don’t forget who caused it. He tells her, Cesar Faison. It was inflicted on him his whole life. She doesn’t seem like bad person. She asks if he’s developed Stockholm Syndrome. He says they’re going about the sequel wrong. It shouldn’t be about him. She says the first book was about him and his father. Why wouldn’t it be about him after his father’s demise? He says he left out a compelling character – her.

Jordan finds TJ, and tells him there’s been a stumbling block in planning the wedding. He assumes it’s Stella, but Jordan says she stepped up to the plate. The other hurdle is the bride needs someone to give her away. Speaking for the bride, she can’t think of anyone better than her son.

Stella tells Sonny the pharmacy is backed up, but their working on Mike’s prescription. Mike asks Sonny to go to the pharmacy and wait. Stella says he needs to get to a wedding, and she’s trying to avoid one. He asks if she means her nephew and the commissioner. He ask if she’s ever missed a funeral, and she says it’s her Christian duty to attend. He asks, then why deny seeing two people’s happiness?

Alexis sees Sonny, and tells him that she’ll accommodate Michael’s wishes. It’s a first to draft a will hours before a groom takes his vows.

Michael says of course he loves Nelle. Why is she doubting it? She says she put him through so much, and then the baby. He says it’s the best thing that ever happened to them. She loves him more than anything, but can’t live with the fact that he might think she’s using the baby to trap him. He says, he’s the one who proposed, and wanted to be married today. If anyone is trapping, it’s him. He says after they’re married, they’ll be so happy. He hugs her, and practically rolls his eyes.

Valentin reserves a suite on the executive level, and asks if they’re sure things will work out. Sam says she couldn’t help overhearing; it’s an occupational hazard. Valentin tells her about Spoon Island being quarantined tells her. Sam says, don’t worry. They don’t want anything to do with it anymore.

Nina asks Curtis if Obrecht is a person of interest. He says she has one hell of a motive. Other than Maxie, who has more reason to hate Peter than Nathan’s grieving mother? He asks if Nina has noticed any odd behavior. She says Obrecht is brilliant, but also a lunatic. She’d be suspicious if Obrecht acted normal. She needs to get back to work. Curtis says if she runs into Obrecht, they never had this conversation. She says, what conversation?

Jordan doesn’t want to put TJ on the spot if he’s uncomfortable. TJ says it’s not that. His dad’s been gone a long time. Like he told Stella, he thinks his dad would want them to be happy. She asks if that’s a yes.

Stella says Mike would understand if he knew the circumstances. There are many reasons why they’re all wrong for each other. He asks if they know reasons, and she says, they do, but want to go ahead anyway. Against reason, decency, and common sense. He says she’s been a good friend, so he’s giving it to her straight. He takes her hand, and says, life goes by in the blink of an eye. If two people are lucky enough to find love, they should grab it. Anyone who tries to take it away, is not doing their Christian duty. They’re robbing themselves of the most precious thing; time to love. He tells her not to make that mistake.

Sonny tells Alexis that Nelle’s last fiancé died before they got married. She thinks Michael’s too smart to take a chance. After they’re married, she’ll revisit the will and work out the details. She leaves, and Sonny says, that may be too late.

Nelle says she’ll see Michael at the chapel. He says he can’t wait. When he’s gone, Nelle calls the lawyer again. She has a quick question for a friend. she became sick with no will, and is terrified her husband and daughter won’t get anything. She asks what happens if someone dies with no will, Michael listens in.

Sam meets Curtis. He says Nina didn’t kidnap Peter, but she knows more than she’s telling. She couldn’t jump through enough hoops to avoid answering questions about Obrecht. Sam asks about the West Nile virus, and Curtis says it’s not there. She asks how much thinks Nina knows.

Nina thanks the officer, and gives him something for his time and expenses. He gives her a flyer from the theater troupe he’s in. They’re doing Bye, Bye Birdie in the park, and he’s playing Conrad. She asks him to leave he sign, and tells him to break a leg.

Valentin makes and appointment with Finn. He needs an infectious disease specialist as soon as possible.

Obrecht rejects Peter’s attempt at flattery. He says the entire story was only about the father and son; they need a mother. It’s time for a story not with a secondhand viewpoint, but her own words. She says no one ever asked about her. It was always Cesar, Cesar and Anna, Cesar and Robin. No one considered she might have story to tell. He says, now’s her chance. She says she’s not a writer, but he says neither was J.K. Rowling before she gave the world Harry Potter. He says pretend he’s the reader, and begin anywhere. Repeat after him, once upon a time… She says, there was a little girl that absolutely no one understood.

TJ tells Jordan, it’s a definite yes. He hopes the wedding is everything she and Curtis would want. She hugs him.

Sonny comes back. Stella says she stopped by to help his father, and he turned the tables and helped her instead. Mike says he still has a few surprises. She says, he certainly does, and tells him not to miss wedding. He says, her too. Outside, Stella calls Shondra again. She says, on second thought, it’s not a good time. She forgot to mention Curtis is getting married.

We see an empty desk chair. On the desk, the phone says a missed call from Stella.

Mike tells Sonny that he loves weddings. Who’s getting married?

Nelle says, so in New York state, if intestate, the spouse inherits everything? Her friend will be glad to hear that. Michael eavesdrops.

Tomorrow, Lulu asks Ned who gets married on Friday the 13th, Carly wants out, and Nelle stabs Michael.

Southern Charm

The Winter Wonderland Ball is being set up and Patricia approves. Kathryn flips through Patricia’s book, The Art of Southern Charm.

Cameran visits Craig at his new house. She asks if he’s swept the floors since he moved in. He says yes, but she’s skeptical. She suggests he hire a cleaning service. He offers her something to drink, and she says she’ll take some wine if it’s not old. From the look on her face after taking a sip, I think it might be. He asks if the baby is awesome, and she shows him a picture. He thinks she’ll make a kickass mom. He’s waiting on a character fitness profile from the bar, which verifies they’re comfortable letting him represent people. At present, it’s pending. Craig tells Cameran about his pillow-making operation. She asks if pillow-making is a passion, and if the end goal is to make a business. He says there’s no reason for it not to, and shows her his pillow covers. She tells him it’s not rocket science to stuff them. She says it’s nice, but in her interview says, wtf?  Cameran says, God bless him, truly, but she thinks it’s nothing more than an excuse not to do what he really wants to be doing. Craig says he needs to focus on one thing; it’s been a pattern in his life. He needs some soul searching to find out why he can’t stick with one thing and follow through. Cameran asks what his life coach said, and he tells her that he stopped calling back. In his interview, he thinks it’s because of shame. We flash back to her asking why he’s a liar, and how they have to work on his vulnerability. Cameran says he has to learn to be accountable, and he believes that was the problem with him and Naomie. Naomie said it more harshly, but she was right. Cameran thinks it would be cathartic to talk to her about it, and also get his house cleaned.

Naomie visits Kathryn, who says they didn’t get to talk at the polo match, because she got sucked into a conversation with Thomas. He was expressing how he and Ashley aren’t doing well, and he’s not happy. She thinks he feels stuck because he’s paying for everything. Kathryn tells Naomie that she got an Instagram message that Ashley was a high-end escort for polo men in Santa Barbara. Naomie heard she was a polo rat. In her interview, Naomie thinks Ashley must have some kind of monetary ambition. Naomie asks if Kathryn is nervous, and she says, not about Ashley, but seeing Patricia will be intense. We flash back to Kathryn telling Shep that she thought she was being served when she got the invitation. Naomie thinks Patricia is over it. In her interview, Kathryn believes it’s a test. Patricia picked the most formal type of event for her to eff up. She tells Naomie that she’s going with Shep, and Naomie says Craig texted her about asking someone else, and seemed to be trying to make her feel like it was her decision. Kathryn asks, why can’t he be straight up? and Naomie says, because he’s Craig.

Craig and Austen pick up their outfits for the Ball, which is tails for the men and gowns for the ladies. Austen tells Craig last night was not an early night. We see a clip of Austen and some of the other guys doing karaoke. Craig says he made it there. Austen says he’s never worn tails. Shep joins them, and says it’s been a while since he’s worn them, explaining that the vest must be even with the coat. In his interview, Shep says the girls get to wear cool dresses, while the men are like Star Wars stormtroopers; everyone looks the same. Craig says he might have to paint his brace. He asks if that girl is still around; the one Thomas is dating. Shep says she is. They talk about Ashley asking if they’d date her, and in his interview, Shep says it’s like she’s hedging her bets. Craig thinks Thomas is throwing money at her to shut her up. She still has no job. Austen thought she was a nurse in California, but Craig says she’s not working now. He asks if Whitney didn’t ask Thomas how much it would take to pay her off. We see a clip of just that, and Ashley suggests five thousand. Being the gentleman he is, Whitney says it should be more like fifty, and suggests Thomas do it.

Everyone gets ready. Ashley asks Thomas for a stiff drink. In his interview, Thomas says if it wasn’t for Ashley’s persistence, they’d have broken up. She feels they still have a chance to make it, and he thinks she has a point. He gives her a cocktail, and a present. He hopes things start looking up. In his interview, he says he doesn’t want to waste his remaining years looking for a partner to share his life with. Ashley opens the box, and its’ a locket with their initials on it. She says she’ll never take it off, and he puts it on her. In his interview, he says he doesn’t want any regrets, and wants to make sure he’s given it everything he has. Ashley says she’ll probably see his baby momma there. Thomas asks if Ashley is going to chat with her, and Ashley says she wants to feel comfortable. Thomas says he gets along with her well.

Chelsea goes to Kathryn’s hotel room, since getting ready with two kids isn’t doable. Ooh, Chelsea is wearing a fur stole, hopefully faux. Chelsea says it’s like a Dior commercial. Kathryn says it’s her first invite in five years. Patricia thought she was a liability. She’s been obsessed with white tie, so there’s no room for criticism. Chelsea says Patricia needs to know her outside of Thomas. Kathryn says she doesn’t care to. She says, Patricia was a single mom going after a single mom. In her interview, Kathryn says Patricia believed Thomas. It’s too bad Patricia didn’t know her outside of that. Austen calls Chelsea, and says he’ll be there in ten. Kathryn says she’s always ready on time, but I’m not sure if she’s being sarcastic.

The quartet plays. The steps outside are covered with bubbles that look like snow. Everything is sparkly and beautiful, including Patricia. Glittering Christmas trees and white lights are everywhere. Champagne is served. Ashley tells Thomas that she hopes to enjoy the company of their friends, but she doesn’t really have any.

Jennifer tells everyone that her child’s favorite word is boobie – in public. Everyone trickles in. Cameran says it’s like the Titanic. Whitney tells Ashley that she looks like Ava Gardner, 1961. Quite debatable. JD (bleh) walks in, saying, let’s get the party started, wearing fur coat over his shoulders. Elizabeth tells him that he looks good. That’s what stress does to you.

Cameran asks if Ashley and Thomas are still together, and Naomie says, very much.  A dude whose name I can’t catch, says there’s an awkward rumor, and Cameran asks if Ashley is pregnant. He says that’s the wrong tree; it’s in the opposite direction. Cameran says, an escort? He says he heard it from a family friend in Santa Barbara. Jennifer isn’t buying it. Craig walks in with his date, Bella, and Naomie gets all weird.

Cameran asks Craig what kind of date it is, and he says they know each other. Cameran says she’ll shut up then, but I’m not sure what all that meant. Thomas asks Whitney, who’s that, looking at Kathryn. He says he didn’t recognize her, and now he lost his train of thought. Kathryn says she’s going the My Fair Lady route. In her interview, Patricia says enough people have told her Kathryn has been redeemed; she wants to see it for herself. She doesn’t want to think of this as test, but… Shep tells Kathryn to let the party settle before she approaches Patricia.

Mingling happens. Shep asks if Kathryn is okay, and she says she’s always good. Austen says Ashley reminds him of Cruella de Vil. That’s certainly more accurate than Ava Gardner. Danni talks to Jennifer, who says her relationship with JD is transforming. Danni says, next stop, boyfriend. Jennifer says she has three little boyfriends at home. Patricia explains to Austen how to sit in tails. Everyone sits down to diner.

Kathryn takes her gloves off with her teeth, and Austen says that’s definitely the way it’s done. Shep pulls them off for her, pretends to sneeze in them, and puts them in his coat pocket. She tells him to keep them. Dinner is served. Cameran FaceTimes with Jason. Whitney says he’s missed. Patricia tells a friend that Kathryn is the one with the tiara. Kathryn knows their staring at her, and says she wants to thank Patricia for inviting her. In her interview, Kathryn says Patricia has a statuesque resting bitch face, and she can’t read her. Bella cuts Craig’s food for him. I have no words. Bella steps away, and Cameran asks if he’s going to talk to Naomie. He says he needs a few drinks first. Jennifer says she’s had no contact with Kathryn, and Ashley says she burned that bitch. Kathryn tells her table about last seeing Jennifer at the deposition where she lied. We flash back to the reunion, and Kathryn calling her a liar. Kathryn says Jennifer deserves no acknowledgement from her. Ashley tells Jennifer that Kathryn says she never thinks about her, but she’s delusional. Every night, she thinks about how Ashley Jacobs is winning. Thomas looks like he has a headache.

Kathryn asks Chelsea about the rumor. She’s not being mean, just throwing it out there. Chelsea asks how much escorts make, since she’s a businesswoman. Naomie makes fun of Bella, who doesn’t know to take her gloves off for dinner. Jennifer tells Thomas it’s not going well with Ashley, and he says she lacks diplomacy. Jennifer says she’s not from the South. Austen starts to talk about the rumor, and Thomas says it’s absurd. Jennifer says she moved there for Thomas; it’s not fair.

Austen says women can be nasty, but it’s being said Ashley is an escort. Jennifer says she has a career, and his remarks are incendiary. Ashley appears in a puff of smoke like the wicked witch. She asks if Austen thinks she’s a nurse. Austen says he has no idea. He’s never seen her do anything but spend Thomas’s money. Jennifer says that’s insulting, and says he called her hooker. Austen says he was just relaying what’s being said. In his interview, Austen says if it was his girlfriend, he would hope someone would tell him. Jennifer asks what if it was Austen’s sister, and they start to argue. Patricia watches from her table, telling Elizabeth the dynamics are interesting. Ashley tries to shove her nursing license in Austen’s hand, and when he won’t take it, shoves it in his face. Cameran asks Whitney what’s with the card Ashley is pushing at Austen? Craig thinks Thomas is happier when Ashley’s not there. Ashley screeches at Austen that she needs a South Carolina license to work in South Carolina. He asks what’s happening with that, and she squawks, it’s called a process. She says there’s no reasoning with him. Thomas tells her to stop it, and be above it.

Austen tells Chelsea that Ashley brought his sister into it. Ashley gripes that Thomas didn’t have her back, and he says he didn’t want to stoop to that level. Dude whose name I don’t know says, the party isn’t going in your favor if everyone says you’re a hooker. A cautionary tale for us all. Ashley doesn’t want Craig to think she was hitting on him; she was just flattering his ego. Then she says it was a joke, because she can’t make up her mind which story to go with. Back at the table, Austen says she attacked him, and told her no one here was calling her that. Chelsea says, only their whole table. Ashley tells Craig that he’s not a backup. He has her confused with Kathryn. She’s not going to break up with Thomas then screw his friends. Craig says she’s not working, she’s spending Thomas’s money, then she says she’d date him or Shep if they were older. It as guy code to ask Thomas if he’s sure about her motives.

The music starts. Patricia wonders what deal is with Kathryn. She invited her, but is yet to be thanked or acknowledged. Elizabeth tells Patricia that Kathryn does want to talk to her. Patricia says, that, and a quarter, making me laugh. (In case you’re not familiar with the phrase, the rest is, will get you on the bus. In other words, it’s meaningless unless Kathryn puts her desire into action. Although the bus costs a lot more than a quarter now.) Kathryn dances with Shep, and Kathryn calls him aggressive. Austen and Chelsea dance. Kathryn asks Shep what to say to Patricia, and he tells her to be contrite. Thank her for the invitation, say she doesn’t want to bother her, but it’s such a lovely party. And it’s so much better than two years ago. They laugh. In her interview, Kathryn says five years ago, she was in exile, blacklisted, and painted as a psycho. We flash back to Patricia calling Kathryn a shameless strumpet. Kathryn wonders, do they hug? Kiss? Shake hands? She didn’t google the etiquette; she just googled the clothes.

Kathryn approaches Patricia, and thanks her for the invitation; it means a lot to be included. It’s been a while, but she wants Patricia to know how much she appreciates the beautiful evening. She says Patricia also looks lovely, and Patricia says, as does she. Patricia takes Kathryn’s hand and thanks her. Elizabeth gets up, and tells Kathryn to sit down. Watching, Shep is excited, saying, it’s all happening. Kathryn says it gives her a chance to be acceptable; it is very different from five years ago. We flash back to Kathryn screaming Thomas’s name while chasing him down the pier. Cameran tells Whitney that it’s jarring. He says like the mailman shaking the Doberman’s hand (isn’t that paw?)>Enemies coming together. Patricia tells Kathryn that Thomas said she’s doing well, and is having a good time with the babies. Kathryn says she also has a job, and structure is good for her. Being a mother is difficult, but it brings joy. Patricia asks about her job. When Kathryn says it’s at Gwenn’s, Patricia she always liked clothes, and looked good. She likes to get on her soapbox about women having careers. It’s important, and gives them a sense of accomplishment, whatever happens in life. Kathryn admits to looking up white tie, and Patricia is glad she did, because she looks perfect. Kathryn says she researched the history. Thomas comes over, but Ashley won’t have it, and can’t drag him away fast enough. Jennifer sits down, much to Jennifer’s dismay. Kathryn says she didn’t mean to interrupt, and takes her leave. In her interview, Patricia says she was pleasantly surprised. Kathryn was gracious, charming, and she was impressed by her demeanor. She feels a genuine liking for Kathryn. I nearly get tears in my eyes, if only because Kathryn has worked so hard to better herself against all odds. I also have to add that she does look fabulous. Her hair is in an updo with whitish streaks (probably extensions). She’s wearing an off-the-shoulder velvet gown that has a thigh-high side slit. The updo also sports a delicate tiara.

Kathryn tells Shep about how Patricia appreciated her googling white tie, and said she wore all the right things. She wanted Patricia to realize that she respects her. Shep says there’s not one person against her in the room. Kathryn says, actually, there is, but it’s irrelevant. He hugs her, and calls her his demure, well-behaved, wonderful date.

Thomas and Craig twirl in their tails. Whitney dips Cameran, and she tells him that he’s secretly the one she’s wanted all along. Kathryn goes back to her original table. Craig approaches Naomie and says he wants to apologize for things in their relationship. When she’s ready to talk, let him know. She says he’s not a genuine person and to eff off. He says, that’s not mature. In her interview, Naomie says it’s the moment she’s been waiting for; him saying she’s not the only problem. But he picks the night it stopped mattering. He says he’s sorry for everything that happened, and she tells him to go away. He mumbles apologies, and wanders off, telling someone, that went well.

There’s sporadic dancing. Patricia says, there’s no crazy going on, and wonders if she missed something. Kathryn goes out for smoke, and Ashley follows her. Kathryn is sitting outside on a bench, and Ashley asks if she can join her. Kathryn says she’d love it. Ashley says she didn’t want to talk upstairs. With everyone around, it gets her charged. Kathryn says she’s resolved her issues with everyone, even Patricia, and she’s in a good place. She’d like to understand where Ashley is coming from, since she has no clue. Ashley wants to begin by apologizing. She says things got heated at Hilton Head, and she’s sorry for her part in it. How about the part where she started it?  Kathryn has no idea where Ashley’s head is at. One minute, Ashley respects her, and the next, she’s a terrible person. Ashley crossed the line in so many ways. Ashley immediately becomes her true, evil queen self, and tells Kathryn, don’t deflect, which makes no sense whatsoever. Kathryn says she’s not. Ashley tells her not to forget her kids were taken from her. Kathryn says she can’t ever forget that. Ashley starts to rant, and Kathryn tells her to calm down. Ashley says, there she is. Kathryn says all Ashley is, is a gold-digger. No one likes her, including her boyfriend. Ashley says she’s not going anywhere, and Kathryn says it’s all in her head. Ashley insists that she and Thomas are best thing to ever happen to one another. Kathryn asks why he’s miserable and depressed then. She says they talk. Ashley gets all weird and shaky, and says when Kathryn calls or texts, it gets Thomas stressed. He can’t stand her. Kathryn says they talk all the time, and Ashley is freaking her out. Ashley tells her to be careful. She knows a lot of information. Kathryn asks if Ashley is threatening her, and Ashley says, yeah, she is.

Kathryn calls Ashley psychotic, but Ashley doesn’t care. Kathryn tells her to back the eff up, and realize her place. Ashley says she has life Kathryn wants; that’s why she’s so threatened. Ashley heads for the door, telling Kathryn God bless. Kathryn says, peace.

Ashley confronts Thomas, asking if he’s been talking smack about her with Kathryn. He insists he hasn’t. Ashley says Kathryn is nasty, and Thomas tells her to stop. He suggests they leave. Kathryn calls him over, and tells him that his girlfriend is a psycho. Ashley tells him not to be a p*ssy, and to speak up. Tell Kathryn how great their relationship is. Kathryn says they’re not talking about her, and Ashley tries to pull him by the arm. Thomas tells her that he’ll be there in a minute. She wants him to tell his baby to find someone else to screw. Danni has her head in her hands. Kathryn points out how Ashley treats her. She knows he’s in a hard spot, and has to go. She says Ashely is scary, and probably scares him too. She won’t accept Ashley being around her kids. She tells him to be careful. If Ashley threatened her, she’ll threaten him too.

Ashley says she wants to save Thomas, and tells him to give her a hug, because everyone thinks they’re breaking up. Kathryn says Ashley must be pretty flexible, since she manages to have her foot in her mouth and her head up her ass at the same time. She walks over to where Thomas and Ashley are standing. She tells Ashley to look her in the eye. She says Ashley crossed line as a mother; screw her. Ashley says she’d hoped they could be cool, and Kathryn says they’ll never be cool. She’ll be gone in a week. Ashley tells Kathryn she’s not the best mom, and does she want her kids to see her like that, pointing to the slit in her skirt. Oh man. Kathryn says Ashley needs to hear her. She’s such a child, and needs to STFU. She doesn’t want Ashley coming around her or her children. Ashley says, good luck with that, and smiles, edging closer to Thomas. Kathryn says she screwed with the wrong person, and screwed with the wrong family. Ashley says they’re not a family. She’s just an egg donor. Kathryn says it’s her effing town, and Ashley says she’s not going anywhere; God bless. Kathryn says, peace, bitch. Ashley tells Kathryn that she’ll in her prayers. Kathryn suggests she pray for herself. Danni cracks up, and Kathryn says, effing psycho.

The text tells us: Six months later, Thomas and Ashley are still together, but Thomas and Kathryn are joyfully co-parenting. And now, Kathryn has 50/500 custody. Yay!

Next time, the reunion.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At Sonny’s place, Milo tells Mike about Lucy losing her clothes at the Nurses’ Ball. Mike asks if Sonny was ever part of the Magic Milo act, but Sonny says he leaves the stripping to the professionals.

Stella asks Griff about a patient. The form is illegible, and there’s no barcode. Griff says he saw the patient in the ER, and things were rough. Stella tells him she was hired to provide social services, not to translate the Rosetta Stone; meet her halfway. He’s abrupt with her, and she tells him the fact that he has a medical degree doesn’t entitle him to impose on anyone.

At Charlie’s, Julian looks at article in the Port Charles Press naming David as Kiki’s harasser. He tells Ava that he can’t believe it. He needs to decide what to do. Ava asks, decide about what? and he says, how many pieces he’s going to be in when he’s found.

Franco startles Scotty at the park, and Scotty asks if he wants to get the life insurance to pay his wedding bills. He doesn’t understand why Franco set up a meeting with him, and Franco wonders why Scotty wanted it to be in the park. Scotty says he can’t be too careful. They have him double crossing his own client. Franco says that David should have thought twice before harassing Kiki. Now he’s going to get what he deserves. Scotty tells him not to be so sure about that. David just gave him a piece of evidence that will put Kiki in the crosshairs.

Kiki meets Alexis at The Floating Rib. She tells Alexis that she got her hours slashed, while David gets to keep living his life like nothing happened. Alexis tells her not if she has anything to say about it.

Kim and Oscar walk into Charlie’s. Oscar is wearing a dress shirt and tie, and Julian tells him he looks good, and Oscar thanks him in a snarky way. Kim explains that it’s the first day of Oscar’s internship. Julian says he’ll bring some breakfast, but Oscar says he can’t eat. He just saw something that made him nauseous. Julian says, one ginger ale coming up, and Kim tells Julian to surprise her. She asks if Oscar is ready, and he says he’s ready for her to stop wasting time with Julian.

On the phone in his office, Drew tells someone that the company is covered if David sues. Sam comes by, and asks if he has a minute.

Kim tells Oscar that she won’t tolerate him being rude to Julian or anyone else. He says she still has feelings for Drew, and she says she has feelings for Julian that are reciprocated. Oscar says Drew can’t help it if he doesn’t remember his feelings for her. Kim tells him it’s natural to want his parents to be together, but wanting something doesn’t mean it will happen. Oscar thinks she and Drew have been conferring, and asks what Drew said about him.

Sam tells Drew that they’re not sure if Peter left town voluntarily or was abducted. Drew knows that Jordan hired her and Curtis, and asks how she’s liking her new job. She says it’s going slow, but she likes it a lot. They’re looking into the motive of revenge. Drew doesn’t think he can help, but Sam says he worked closer with Peter than she did. She asks if he mentioned an enemy. Drew doesn’t think Peter ever talked about much that was personal, and for sure nothing negative. Sam says she’s worried about Drew. Peter told her that he was going to do a memory reversal procedure with Andre, and had offered him the flash drive in exchange for breaking him out. He’d said Drew turned him down, and was going to do the procedure without it. Drew says, that was the plan. She hopes he’s changed his mind, and he says he decided it wasn’t worth the risk. He couldn’t do it to the kids. Sam says he made the right choice. She thinks he’s great exactly as he is, and Scout and Oscar love having him as a father. Drew says he owed it to them not to live in limbo. He says today is the start of a new life. He got the papers, and it’s official. They’re divorced.

Kiki tells Alexis that she’s made notes on every close encounter with David. Alexis says it will be helpful in structuring the case, but no more publicity. If Lulu wants a follow-up, tell her to wait until the trial starts. Kiki says the waiting makes her anxious, but Alexis says it will give her more time for putting the case together. With Francesca’s cooperation, she’s feeling more confident, but it will still be an ordeal. She believes with their poised and careful testimony, the jury will throw the book at David. Alexis gets a call from Franco. He’s looking at the picture of Griff and Kiki hugging, and says Scotty showed him something that could have an effect on Kiki’s case, and not in a good way.

Milo tells Mike that Epiphany is his biggest fan, but he had to tell her dollar bills don’t cut it. He doesn’t come cheap. Mike asks if Sonny knows Milo, and Milo says they go way back. Sonny asks if Mike took his meds today, and Mike asks if Sonny is checking up on him. Milo says that’s what families are for, and Sonny says he’s been checking on Mike for a long time. Mike leaves to take his medication, and Sonny tells Milo that he’s sorry. Milo tells him not to apologize. Mike is doing better than his mother did. She also had Alzheimer’s.

Drew says, papers are filed, and boom, two people who were once in love are no longer married. Sam starts to cry, and apologizes. She says she thought they should share Scout equally. He asks why she’s giving up Aurora, and she says she thinks it’s best for the company to have a sole owner; it cuts out the uncertainties, since Peter turned out to be a fraud. He says he can handle the fallout from Peter. Why give up something that’s half hers? Sam says Drew made it for them to run together, but they’re not together anymore. She thinks it’s best for the company – and them – to have a clean split. He guesses that’s it then, but she says, not quite.

Oscar asks Kim again what Drew said about him, and she says, next to nothing, but they agreed the past is in the past. In the here and now, they’re his parents and love him. They want to help in making choices that are best for him, but that’s as far as it goes; they have separate lives. Oscar says he’s glad she cleared it up. He tells her that he doesn’t want to be late, and gets up. She says she’ll tell Julian they’re leaving, but he says, stay with Julian. He’d rather walk.

Julian tells Ava that Oscar’s not his biggest fan. Ava is glad he’s willing to spill blood for Kiki, but wants him to stay out of it. She’s going to see how the trial shakes out. He asks what if it doesn’t go her way? She says then she’ll put David in his place. If the justice system fails, she has a plan.

Alexis tells Kiki there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that they got a leg up on Scotty’s defense. The bad news is the defense is going to portray her as a slut who asked for it.

Milo tells Sonny that his mom passed away two years ago. Sonny wishes Milo had told him, but Milo didn’t want to be a burden. Sonny says she was young, and Milo says, it can go that way, especially with women. Although she wasn’t Max’s mom, he and his family helped, and Diane found a good care facility. He doesn’t know what would have done without Epiphany. She got him to a place where he could talk about it. Sonny asks if there’s anything he can do for Milo, and Milo says, learn from his mistakes. The disease is relentless. The end is predictable, but the day to day, not so much. He tells Sonny to be with his father, enjoy the moments, and don’t be too proud to ask for help. There’s nothing bad about it. We all get weepy, and Sonny hugs Milo.

Milo says that Max asked him to drop something off, since he’s at the dentist. He gives Sonny an envelope, and says Max told him it’s everything he could find on the thing Sonny asked him to look into. Sonny says, he can’t get more vague, and Milo thinks that was the point. Sonny asks him to tell Epiphany that he owes her for supporting Milo, and he owes Milo for telling him about his mom. Talking to someone who understands it, helps.

Kiki realizes that David took the photo, and Alexis says he keeps out creeping himself. It was taken at GH, and the hugging wasn’t sexual, but it’s close. Kiki asks when it was taken, and Alexis tells her on April 24th. Kiki says, that was before. When Alexis asks, before what? Kiki says the Nurses’ Ball. Griff was comforting her after David’s harassment. Alexis asks Kiki if there’s anything she should know. It’s not be good be blindsided during the trial.

Griff has another referral for Stella. She says it’s legible and he found a bar code. He promises to be more careful in the future, and tells her, for the record, he doesn’t think having a medical degree entitles him to impose on her or anyone. He says a lot of male staffers are worried about Kiki’s allegations, but their silence isn’t consent. They don’t like a colleague imposing unwanted advances on anyone. He wishes they’d opened their eyes before this happened.

Scotty tells Franco that he just shared privileged information with him, and Kiki is a big girl. Franco says, it doesn’t matter how old she is, and Scotty says it sounds like he’s familiar with the experience.

Kim introduces herself to Ava. Ava says it’s about time. She wondered what gave Julian the extra spring in his step. Julian says, look no further.

Sam tells Drew that she’s sorry the vows they said didn’t last, but she’s not sorry they made them. She’s grateful for their time together. He saved her life, and helped bring their daughter into the world, and she’s grateful they’ll always be bonding over her. Drew says he’s grateful for the love they shared. He’s sorry it has to end this way. Sam is too, but she had to stand on her own and start over for the kids and herself. She misses what they had, and thinks she always will. She says it’s a new start for the both of them. She gives him her rings, and hopes it’s a good one. Drew says a lot of things went wrong, but the rings represent real love. He asks her to hold on to them for Scout. They hug, and he tells her it’s going to be okay.

Scotty tells Franco it looks like he struck a chord. Franco says, you know what they say about a broken clock. (I had to look this up – it’s right twice a day.) He tells Scotty not to be like that, and Scotty says, like what? Concerned, interested, dare he say fatherly? He knows Franco thinks he’s a deadbeat because he came into Franco’s life later. He’s tried to help, but Franco has a cloud hanging over his head, and it’s noticeable. He says Franco has an inner circle, but he can’t get in there. Franco admits he hasn’t shared a rather sizable demon. Scotty asks if Franco doesn’t trust him, and Franco says, if he does, it might change things. Is Scotty ready for that? Scotty says he is. Franco tells him that he didn’t have anyone like him when he was little. Just Drew and Betsy, who wasn’t equipped to deal with what was happening, and he was just a little kid.

Oscar goes to Drew’s office. Drew says they have a busy day ahead. First, he’s going to meet the head of the press, and going to shadow him. Then they’ll poke into the newsroom, but there’s some clerical stuff to take care of first. It’s not exciting, but it’s important. Drew notices that something is wrong, and asks, what’s going on? Oscar wonders if he ran the itinerary by his mom, since they report to each other behind his back.

Kiki tells Alexis that she’s already given her all sexual history, and asks if she should make a PowerPoint presentation for the jury. Alexis says she’s looking for a bad relationship that could be used to support her as the aggressor. Kiki says she never came on to or slept with someone as part of an agenda. Alexis says the last thing they need is a surprise, and Kiki says, there won’t be one.

Mike comes back downstairs. Sonny asks if he took his meds, and he says, yes, nurse. He asks what happened to Milo, and Sonny says he had to leave. Mike says Milo is a great kid, and Sonny says Milo and his mom have been taking care of his family for a long time. Mike says, unlike Sonny’s father, who didn’t take care of him. Sonny says sometimes he did. He followed him to Croton. Mike tells him to forget about it, but Sonny says, it’s important. Where did Mike take the body?

Scotty tells Franco the dark cloud is starting to make sense. He wishes his own father was there. He would know what to say, since Scotty isn’t equipped to handle it. He’s sorry Franco was hurt, and wishes he could have stopped it or helped him. He says he’s sorry, and Franco says he appreciates it, and thanks him. Scotty says if he gets something on David, he’ll let him know. They hug.

Kiki tells Griff she needs to talk to him away from the hospital.

Ava tells Kim that they should have dinner. Maybe Griff could come; she’s been wanting to get the boys together to have a good time. Kim says the last double-date she was on was in high school. She got food poisoning, and she’d like another shot at it. They decide to come up with a date that fits all of their schedules.

Drew tells Oscar that he doesn’t report to Oscar’s mom. Oscar says, if you say so. Drew says it’s important that Oscar respect him, and he didn’t betray any confidence. Oscar asks why he told her that Oscar wanted them back together. Drew says after the awards ceremony at Kelly’s, Kim wondered why Oscar had suddenly soured on Julian, and realized it was because he wanted them together. Drew didn’t confirm or deny. Oscar says he’s not a lawyer; he’s Drew’s son. Drew says it’s not exactly a secret that he doesn’t want Julian with his mom, and it was easy to presume. He told Kim that it was a natural thing to want. They have their own lives, but they both love him. They have that in common, but that’s as far as it goes.

Sam sees Alexis, and says she’s checking in. Alexis asks, as a daughter or a client? and Sam says, both. She just found out the divorce papers were executed. Alexis tells her that she knew they went out today, and if she checks her voicemail, there’s a message about it. Alexis wanted Sam to hear it from her first. She asks if Sam is okay; she wants the truth.

Mike talks about doing some small-time jobs for Charlie’s family, and Sonny asks if he went to the city after Croton. Mike says it was decades ago, and Sonny says there’s no statute of limitations for murder. Mike says he saw Sonny bury it, and he moved it; why isn’t that enough? Sonny says Mike told him that he moved it closer to home. Did he move it to Port Charles?

👿 Here’s where ABC breaks in to tell me that Scott Pruitt resigned. Because it can’t wait ten minutes. This time, I tried to go legit, using the ABC website to fill it in – they did come back for the tail end – but I had to watch fifty commercials just to get five minutes worth of show. I think next time I’ll continue to go rogue and use the pirated version. Sorry Clorox, BMW, and Secret antiperspirant.

Drew tells Oscar that he was just trying to get on the same page as his mom. Oscar says he’s sorry for snapping. Drew says it’s no one’s fault. His mom did a fantastic job of raising him. Drew promises he won’t tell her anything said in confidence.

Sam tells Alexis that the day Drew left her, he got in a fight with Jason. The PCPD called her, and she went down to the station to pay his bail. When he came out, he just walked past her, and she felt like no one, nothing. She guesses it was rock bottom, so when Alexis asks how she feels, she’s devastated that her marriage is over, but thinks she made right choice. They can both move on with their lives. Alexis asks if she can do anything to make it easier, and Sam says she’s the best mom and lawyer a girl could ask for. Alexis says she’d better be if she’s going to win Kiki’s case. It’s a little tricky, but she had a breakthrough this morning. Sam asks why she’s worried then, and Alexis tells Sam that she’s assuming her client is keeping something from her.

Franco tells Ava that Scotty agreed to reach out to Alexis and share tactics, so they know how David is spinning things. Ava says their strategy appears to be working’ they might not have to use drastic measures. Franco tells her about David having a photo he took of Kiki and Griff. Ava wonders, what photo?

Griff meets Kiki in the park, and asks, what’s going on? She tells him that David took a photo of them hugging. She doesn’t want him to be blindsided on the stand, and says they’ll also have to be prepared for her mom to ask questions. She says Alexis bought her explanation, and he asks if Alexis knows what happened. Kiki says she didn’t tell her; it has nothing to do with the case. Griff thinks it might help her fight the case. Kiki tells him there’s an old saying that three can keep a secret if two are dead. She adds that if her mom finds out about them, they might as well be dead. Scotty is listening in from behind a tree. I realize that lawyers could spin something like this, but I fail to see how it would be unusual for Kiki to hug Griff. He’s her mother’s boyfriend, and technically, as well as weirdly, could become her stepfather if he and Ava ended up getting married.

Kim asks Julian what all the boxes are for. He says he’s been cleaning out the back room. He wants to see if it can be expanded to give him more private space.

Sonny tells Mike the foundation of the pub was laid the same year he turned eighteen. The same year he buried the body and Mike moved it. He asks if Charlie helped Mike, and Mike says Sonny had a problem and they took care of it. Sonny says, it’s in the pub, isn’t it?

Kim tells Julian that he’ll never know what he might find under the façade. Old buildings are loaded with quirks. He says, whatever is buried in these walls, he can handle it.

Mike tells Sonny that the Feds would have to bust up the foundation to find the body.

I am loving this dead body storyline.

Tomorrow, Maxie says maybe she and Lulu can help each other like they used to, Ava tells Nelle that she’ll defend herself by any means necessary, and Peter asks if anyone was told he’s there. I assume the Scout came back for his bugle.

🐒🐐🐪 If you love animals, I highly recommend My Wild Life on TLC. Bobbie Jo and Jerry Abrams have a blended family all under one roof… three children, nanny, Naa Naa and 81 fur babies. The animal siblings include, a zebra, camel, kangaroos, llamas, wallabies and a recently adopted sloth. While there’s been some concern from animal rights groups about such a variety of animals living together, it looks like it works for them. Their website also states: We are a USDA licensed facility and highly trained to care for each of our unique animals. All of them are up to date on their shots and received lots of daily attention from our staff. Just don’t try this at home. I think the first season might be over, as I saw a couple of reruns late night, and don’t see it listed in the guide right now, but you can watch episodes for free here:

☝ One Good Quote…

Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?Mary Manin Morrissey

🎡 The Fourth…

Tonight’s Southern Charm was a rerun from last week. I was actually kind of glad. I didn’t mind watching Ashley make a fool of herself at the polo match again, and while I can’t wait to watch her make a supreme fool out of herself at Patricia’s Winter Wonderland Ball, I’m happy to call it an early night. There’s been a heat wave, it’s not burning in my heart, and I spent way too much time on the boardwalk yesterday at the annual Oceanfest. It’s really a glorified flea market, with the addition of sand sculptures and fireworks, but it’s a tradition in our household. We never stick around for the fireworks, because, our dogs. It wasn’t too horrible this year. We blasted music and talked very loudly with each other, and now the dogs are afraid of us instead. JUST KIDDING. But it worked. Along with the grilled hamburger we occasionally slipped them.

Nelle says, someone is in a bad mood, but she has news to make Carly’s day. She’s been thinking long and hard about the damage that’s been done, and has one way to make better. Nelle says she forgives Carly.

Michael tells Jason and Sonny that his mom warned him about Nelle, and he has to pay for his mistakes.  paying for his mistakes. Sonny doesn’t see it that way, and wants to protect Michael. Michael says Sonny has; now it’s his turn. He’s going into the marriage with his eyes wide open. Sonny says, it’s a losing battle. Michael says to tell Carly it’s going to be okay. Even if he’s lying, say he believes in Michael.

Terry doesn’t want to intrude, but Elizabeth and Franco ask her to stay. Terry asks if Franco is weirded out, but he says he’s relieved. He had been a little jealous. Terry appreciates the candor, and Franco says Elizabeth could have clued him in to… Terry explains it’s called gender transition, and that Elizabeth didn’t know. They drink to surprises.

Lucas and Brad talk about including everyone in family gatherings, and ask Sam if she’ll be there. She says Danny loves being a big brother, and will take on a new cousin like a champ. Brad says this is really happening.

Kim asks if Julian wants to talk about it. He wonders what there is to talk about. She says his son and daughter are there, and not even looking in his direction. He’s glad they’re spending time together. He’d like to be a part of it, but thinks it’s too late to be a father to them. Kim disagrees, at least with Lucas. Maybe he can’t be a full-fledged father, but he can have a relationship. She saw them at the hospital, and it’s not lost on Lucas how hard he’s tried. She thinks he has a chance.

Josslyn says Oscar seems bummed. He tells her that he hates his mom being with Julian. He knows things are hard for Josslyn with her family right now, but Josslyn says they can’t do anything about their moms tonight, so they should enjoy what they can control. They have an awesome spot for the fireworks. They kiss, and Cameron appears, asking if he’s interrupting.

Carly can’t believe Nelle came all that way just to say she forgives her. Nelle says it’s an important part of healing. Carly says making peace means so much to her. Being in there isn’t ideal, but she sees how much she needed it, and is going to do whatever work it takes to get back to her family. Nelle says, ever growing family, and Carly asks how she’s feeling. Nelle says, wonderful. Michael is waiting on her hand and foot. The pregnancy went by quickly, and there’s been a lot going on. Carly says Nelle has been busy, but Nelle says, never too busy for her.

Sonny tells Michael that he does believe in him, and to take care of himself. Jason tells Michael these are not normal circumstance. Nelle will do anything to get what she wants. Michael says, she wants him. Sonny says they don’t know what she’ll do now. He and Jason explain about the flyer, and how Nelle was trying to make Carly believe his brother was still alive. There’s no line Nelle won’t cross. Michael says he’s smart enough to call for help if he needs it. Sonny has to go, and tells Michael to be careful. After he leaves, Jason asks Michael why the hell he’s marrying Nelle.

Brad thinks it’s the perfect time, and Sam asks, for what? Lucas says they would be grateful if she’d be their baby’s godmother. She’s an amazing mom, and they know if it came to it, she’d go to the ends of the earth for their kid. She’s in, and they make a toast to the godmother. Julian approaches the table, and hopes the baby arrives safely, healthy, and happy. They thank him, and he says he wants it for both their families. Lucas says they’ll let him know when the baby arrives. He goes back to his table, and Sam says her first order of business as godmother is to advise they don’t let Julian in the baby’s life.

Terry says she wasn’t brave; she was scared to death. Elizabeth says that’s why she’s so brave. Franco asks if there was a turning point, and Terry says the older she got, the more trapped she felt, until she couldn’t stand it. Elizabeth can’t believe Terry didn’t tell her. Terry says back then, she just felt like something was off, but she was comfortable and could be herself with Elizabeth. Elizabeth wishes she’d been there to offer support, and Terry says she didn’t know. Elizabeth asks about her parents. Terry tells her, at first, they didn’t know what was happening. Terry acted out with negative behaviors, and they just wanted her to get better, but when it meant that they had to acknowledge she was a girl, no one wanted it. Least of all her brother.

Josslyn explains to Oscar that she and Cameron grew up together. Cameran tells him how they got married in elementary school, and Josslyn ate the licorice ring. Cameron asks how Oscar likes Port Charles, and Oscar says Josslyn has been showing him the ropes. Cameron tells them he’s life-guarding this summer. Josslyn says Oscar has an internship with his dad, and she’ll be reporting for duty as a camp counselor. Cameron says they can hang out.

Nelle gets Carly some water. She says she’s been spending time with Josslyn; they have special bond. Josslyn is excited about becoming aunt. Carly says Josslyn is growing up, and Nelle says, in more ways than one. Carly asks what that means. Nelle says Josslyn confided in her about her relationship with Oscar. It sounds like things are heating up. She hopes Carly doesn’t mind, but she took Josslyn to buy some lingerie; nothing trashy, but age appropriate. Whatever that means at age fourteen. Carly says she trusts Nelle implicitly, and Nelle says then she won’t mind that she asked Josslyn to be her maid of honor. Michael proposed. She asks if she can call Carly mom. Carly says she’s speechless. Nelle says she couldn’t believe it either. The alone time brought them closer with no interference. Carly asks when, and Nelle says, as soon as possible. They’re going to be a true family from the start. Carly thinks it’s amazing. Getting married for the sake of baby is great, although those marriages don’t always last. She married AJ for Michael’s sake. Nelle asks if Carly doesn’t think Michael will love her, and Carly says he put a ring on it, but just because a couple can make a baby doesn’t mean they should be married. Nelle says, not her and Michael, and Carly tells Nelle that she’s right. Rupert tells Carly she has another visitor. Sonny asks what the hell Nelle doing there.

Michael tells Jason to let Nelle think her plan worked, and that he’s in love with her. Over-confident people make mistakes. Jason says she killed her last fiancé; he’s risking his life. Michael says he gets it. Nelle is dangerous and evil and all those things. He’s not pretending she isn’t, but she’s carrying his child. She put his mother, and Jason’s best friend, in an institution. There’s no limit to what she’ll do, but she’s not playing him again. It’s his turn, and he guarantees he’ll win.

Sam tells Lucas he has an I-feel-bad-for-dad face. Lucas says Julian did what he wanted, and respected the boundaries. Sam needs to stand down. Sam says, not when it comes to Julian. She strongly suggests he do the same.

Kim tells Julian that wasn’t so bad, but he says he can feel the arctic chill. He doesn’t expect things to change. He’s concerned about Lucas not knowing anything about the birth mother though. She can snatch the baby back at any minute, and he doesn’t want Lucas robbed of the chance to be a father.

Terry tells Elizabeth that her brother hasn’t spoken to her since her transition. Elizabeth says she must have felt betrayed. Terry says he thinks she just decided she was over being a boy, and would rather be a girl, but she was finally reconciling her physical and emotional sides. Franco says she was freed to be seen for who she really is. He gets it. He knows the pain of rejection. They agree it stinks.

Carly tells Sonny that Nelle came to tell her that she and Michael are getting married. Sonny thought she was getting her ring sized. Nelle says the jeweler is close by. Sonny says he can’t stop the marriage, but he’s not letting her get in his wife’s face. Nelle says she’s glad to brighten Carly’s day. Carly tells her to give Michael a hug, and when she’s gone, tells Sonny, this is not happening.

Michael tells Jason the mistakes his parents have made were because they let emotions get in the way. The baby is 100% innocent, and he’s going to protect it at all costs. He needs to make Nelle feel comfortable, secure, and loved as long as it takes to exonerate his mom. Right now, he needs to focus on the baby. Jason says he couldn’t do it, and respects him for that. He tells Michael that every time he lies, it will cost him. Michael says he knows it, and Jason tells him not to give up his soul for her. Make sure he can live with his choices. Michael says he can live with anything, as long as his mom and the baby are safe.

Kim realizes that’s why Julian wanted to know about the records. He says he wants to know the deal with the birth mother – and father. Does the father even know? He doesn’t want anyone hurt in this scenario, especially his son. Kim tells him that he’s not a party. As much as it stinks, it’s out of his control. She asks, given his experience, if it’s hard to be with her because of what she did to Drew.

Lucas tells Sam that he loves and is grateful to her. They drink to the baby.

Jason goes to the footbridge.

Elizabeth wishes she’d been there, and Terry asks if she thinks she could have talked sense into her brother Sean. Elizabeth says she could have been a friend and listened. Terry says she’s doing that now, but Elisabeth wonders why Terry didn’t confide in her sooner. Terry says for one thing, she was gone, and Elizabeth was her Biz. She couldn’t stand the thought of rejection. Elizabeth realizes Terry thought she wouldn’t accept her.

Cameron has camp training early, and leaves. Oscar says he seems like an okay guy, but he’s not going to lie. He likes it being just the two of them. Josslyn says, her too.

Carly tells Sonny that Nelle is dangerous. He says Michael knows, but she says Nelle is psychotic dangerous. She’s a sociopath who killed her last fiancé. Does Sonny want Michael to go next? Carly tells him that he has to do whatever it takes to stop it.

Julian says he doesn’t judge Kim’s choices about Oscar. The situation is different. She wasn’t trying to keep Drew from his son. She says she could have worked harder. He says she did the best she could. She did what was necessary, and he respects her decisions. She says, then instead of jumping to the worst case scenario with the biological parents, he should think that they’re doing what’s in the best interest of their child; giving them to a good home. Julian says he wasn’t able to protect Lucas growing up, and doesn’t want him to get hurt. Kim says, getting hurt is part of the job. He thanks her for listening. He appreciates her solid advice – and her.

Terry tells Elizabeth that she’s knocked on a few doors, and not many have been as warm and welcoming. Elizabeth says Terry is her friend. She loves her, and nothing will change that. She asks if Terry would like to stay with them, but she has a consult in morning. Elizabeth is excited that she’ll be working at GH, and says she has to come to the wedding. Terry is her oldest friend. Terry agrees, as long as Elizabeth stops calling her old. She’s happy Elizabeth found Franco. She tells Franco that Elizabeth has a huge, compassionate heart that was meant to be shared with someone like him. He says he’s a lucky guy, and grateful. Terry leaves, and Franco hugs Elizabeth.

Sonny says Michael is doing this because he feels guilty. He’s been beating himself up for getting involved with Nelle, and her ending up in Ferncliff. Carly says they’ve already lost Morgan; they can’t lose Michael. Sonny tells her that Michael is a grown man. He trusts Michael, and she needs to trust him. She says it’s Nelle who she doesn’t trust. She might kill him out of spite. He says Michael’s got it, and she asks if he’s got Michael. He says, always. Sonny has some good news about the flyer on her car. He says, invisible ink, and laughs. Carly calls Nelle a bitch, and asks if he can prove it. He says not that Nelle is behind it, but they’re trying. Until then, everything has to stay as it is. Carly says, so she stays in there, and Michael marries Nelle.

Michael asks how the sizing went, and Nelle says, actually, she went to visit his mom instead. She wanted to tell her about the engagement personally. She thought if she could explain how much she loves him and the baby, it would make it easier, but no such luck. Michael doesn’t think it’s a good time to reach out. Carly is still in recovery, and needs space. Nelle apologizes, saying she was so happy, she wanted to share it, and give Carly a piece of joy to hold on to. She asks Michael what if Carly never accepts her, and he says, then so be it. He loves her, and him, her, and the baby are all that matters; they’re a family. He doesn’t think his mom will shut her out forever. Things change, and eventually she’ll give in; she has to. Nelle hopes he’s right as long as motivated by good intentions everything will be fine

Sam brings Danny to the footbridge. Jason asks if Danny is there to watch the fireworks. Danny tells him that his mom says it’s the best view ever. Sam says she was telling him about how Jason built the bridge. Jason says he wasn’t out there with a hammer, but he paid for it. The old one had been special to a friend of his, and over time, to him too. Danny asks if Jason will watch fireworks with them, and Jason says he’d like that. Sam smiles.

Elizabeth and Franco sit on the couch, talking about the visit from Terry. Cameron comes in home early. He tells them that he saw Josslyn, and she’ll be being working at camp. It should be cool. He stomps upstairs, and Franco says, teenagers. The fireworks start, and they stand outside. Franco says it must have been hard for Terry, not being herself. He forgives Elizabeth for making out with Terry. They kiss.

Everyone goes outside at The Floating Rib. Oscar and Josslyn watch from their blanket. Oscar tells Josslyn that he tried the cologne and really likes it.

Nelle tells Michael, next year, they will be a family. He says, perfect.

Sonny has to go. He tells Carly, the next time, the celebration will be hers; he promises. They kiss.

On the footbridge, Danny sits on Jason’s shoulders. Jason and Sam smile at each other.

Tomorrow the show from January 17, 2018 will be aired. Why that one? Who knows? On Thursday, Stella tells Griff not to impose, Oscar tells Kim to stop wasting time with Julian, and Drew tells Sam they’re divorced.

The Haves and the Have Nots

RJ asks David, what the hell, and David says get out of his face. Veronica can’t believe David really hit her. He says after all he’s done for her, and all the sacrifices he made for her. The new house was supposed to be hers after she burned the other one down. She starts freaking out, and hopping up and down. David says she’s made his life hell. RJ tells David to go, but David tells him to mind his own business. Veronica says she has this. She’s going to show him how bad it can get. David tells her to give it her best shot. She says when they got married, she had two rules. One, that he not cheat on her, and two, that he never lay a hand on her; now he’s done both, and he’s with that heifer. He says he never cheated on her, but he had to see her with Benny in the paper. He gave up on her ass. She says he doesn’t know what cheating is, and he calls her insane, telling her not to go near his son or Erica. Stay out of his life. She says, you’ll regret it, and repeats it in a singsong way.

RJ asks if she’s all right. She screams at him to get out, and keeps singsonging, you’ll regret it. After RJ leaves, she repeats, he hit me, over and over. She gets her phone and sits on the couch. She calls Derek, who tells her it’s the middle of the night, but she doesn’t give a damn; she needs some help. She needs some numbers for a partner in crime. He says he’s not doing this, and she says, don’t tell her what he’s not going to do. She wants the numbers at her house by the morning. He says he’s not in that life anymore, but again, she doesn’t give a damn.

Jeffrey sits in the middle of the trashed condo. David comes in, and asks if he’s okay. Jeffrey keeps saying he’s sorry, and David tells him to stop that; his mother is a mess. Jeffrey says she didn’t do this, and David asks who did. Jeffrey tells him, Officer Justin, and David asks if it was before or after they had sex; Veronica told him. Jeffrey says, after, and he knows David is going to tell him to end it. David didn’t know there was something to end, and Jeffrey says, he doesn’t know there is. He likes Justin, and he needs help. David says, so does Jeffrey’s mother, but she won’t change. He says, this kind of behavior leads to bodily harm, and asks if Justin has been abusive. Jeffrey says he has, both physically and verbally. David wonders if Jeffrey didn’t study this in psyche class.

Justin comes out, and says he’s sorry. David says he didn’t know Justin was there, and Jeffrey says, that makes two of them. Justin says he’ll pay for it, but David asks if he can afford a $16,000 couch. Justin says, no, but he’ll try. David says Jeffrey is an adult. If he chooses to be involved with someone like Justin, there’s not much he can do, but Justin needs to get help. Justin says he knows, and David says he’ll be watching. Jeffrey’s mother is nothing compared to what he’ll do to protect the well-being of his son. He asks Jeffrey if he’s sure this is what he wants, but Jeffrey doesn’t know. David tells him when he figures it out, let him know. He has to leave before he gets sick. He tells Justin the misusing of his son makes him want to throw Justin off the balcony, and tells Jeffrey that he’ll have new furniture sent over. He leaves and Jeffrey tells Justin that he’s serious, and asks why he came back. Justin says to beg forgiveness. Jeffrey tells him that he says that a lot, but he’s forgiven. Justin says there’s a program at the department where he can talk to a psychologist, and Jeffrey says he needs to. Justin asks if it works and he gets better, will Jeffrey move in with him? Jeffrey tells him to just focus on getting better. Justin says he will, and Jeffrey says, get out. Justin says he loves Jeffrey, and wants him to say the same. Jeffrey says, I love you; bye. Justin leaves.

DA George is told they have footage from across the street from the bar. An officer asks what’s the hold-up with the Cryer case, and George says the family is strong. They’re connected, and he needs every bit of ammo he can get. The officer asks, what about the son, and George says, he’s a drug addict; not a good character witness. They look at the footage that’s focused on the bar. George wonders what Wyatt is doing there, and then sees Jim, and wonders what the hell he’s doing there. The officer says the witness didn’t see them, but recognized this guy, pointing to Benny coming out the door. The witness said he was the assailant. George says, it’s Benjamin Young. He was hit with a car by Wyatt, and the family covered it up; what’s going on? The officer says the witness claims he’s the guy, and George tells them to bring Benny in.

Sarah asks for evidence to check against a case. The deputy, who obviously thinks she’s hot, lets her into the evidence room. He tells her a shift change is coming, and to hurry, because he doesn’t want anyone to know he let her in. She takes out a box, and puts something in her purse, presumably the bullets. She thanks him, and leaves.

Hanna calls Kathryn. Neither one of them slept well. Kathryn tells Hanna that she called the attorney. Hanna thanks her, saying she thinks the police will be breaking down her door any minute. Kathryn tells her to calm down, and not to worry about the cost. After the call ends, Hanna takes out her laptop, saying she has $32.00 in her account. Not anymore. It’s $8 million now. What bank is that? The interest rate is phenomenal. She calls Kathryn back, and gets voicemail. She leaves a message saying she can’t accept it, and to call her back.

Jeffrey visits Wyatt, who’s still in a straitjacket. Wyatt says he’s been in restraints all night. Jeffrey tells him that he looks better, and will get what he needs. Wyatt wonders if it isn’t illegal to keep him there, but Jeffrey says he said he was going to kill himself. Wyatt says he was kidding, and Jeffrey says they don’t know that. He tells Wyatt that his mother will be coming, and he’ll be fine. Wyatt says they’re going to kill him, and tells Jeffrey to go. He leaves, and Wyatt lies down.

On the phone, Sarah tells Jim, it’s done. He asks where it is, and she says she’s getting rid of it. He asks how he’ll know, and she says, when the case is dropped. He wants proof, but she says she’s not sending him proof. He tells her that he wants it brought personally. Do it, and they’re through. She asks how she knows he’s telling the truth, and Jim says she’ll have to trust him. Sarah says that will never happen. He knows how dangerous this is. He says, bring it. He’ll text the address, and make sure she’s not followed. She says, no sh*t.

There’s a knock at Veronica’s door, and she says, there’s a doorbell, boy. Derek comes in, and she asks if he got her numbers. He puts a paper on the end table, and starts to leave, but she tells him, not so fast. When she calls, she needs for him to come. She doesn’t care what he’s doing. Unless he wants her to call his parole officer. He says, some things are worth going back to jail for. Why not leave him alone? He’s living a clean, honest life. She doesn’t give a damn. He owes her, and she always collects. He asks how much is enough? and she says when she decides it is. He wonders if she knows what he was in for, and she asks if he’s threatening her. He says call him again, and yes. She laughs at him, and says she can’t wait to need something else. She says, they better be good numbers. When he leaves, she can’t believe a damn convict is threatening her.

Benny is surprised to find Hanna at home, and she says she’s not going to work with this thing hanging over their heads. Benny says it will be fine, and she says, she knows; she got a lawyer. She doesn’t want to use Veronica, and they can afford it. She checked the account, but her boss put too much in. Benny wonders why Kathryn is being so nice, and asks, how much? She says she’s going to use it to pay for the lawyer, and give the rest back. Kathryn calls back, and Hanna asks if she’s lost her mind. She put over $8 million in Hanna’s account, and she can’t accept it. Kathryn says she didn’t put it in there, and Hanna asks, who did? Kathryn has an idea, but can’t talk right now. She’ll call Hanna back. Hanna tells Benny it’s a mistake, and starts to call the bank. He says, it’s not a mistake.

Candace’s phone rings. It’s Benny, who asks how much money she put into the account. When Hanna hears the money came from Candace, she freaks. Benny insists he told Candace it was a joint account, and she says they have to move the money. He asks where it came from, and she tells him, it’s legit. She’ll explain when she gets there, and don’t let Hanna touch it. Benny tells Hanna that they should hear what Candace has to say, but Hanna says they’re not keeping it. He says they don’t know where it came from, and Candace says, it came from the devil.

Charles practices a speech, and Landon tells him it’s perfect. He’s going to knock the ladies dead again. He leaves to check on their departure times. Another member of Charles’s staff is there (another guy who has no name), and tells Charles to be careful of Landon. He doesn’t see it, the way Landon caters to him. Charles says Landon is a good guy. Dude says, he’s gay. Charles says, no, but dude says, yes. Now Charles feels stupid, having talked to Landon about women. Dude says Landon is smitten with him, but Charles can’t believe it. He says Landon is a professional and won’t cross lines, and he’s not so sure Landon is gay. Even if he is, so what? Dude says, just be careful. Charles says, they’re adults. Landon can’t do anything to him. Dude says that’s not what he means. Some of the staff are whispering about them. Charles says, ridiculous. Dude says Landon is territorial. All the nights in Charles’s room, the staff is wondering if there’s more to the relationship. Charles says he’s done with the conversation. He doesn’t want to hear it again. Landon comes back, and tells him the car is ready.

Erica looks at an ovulation test. She calls Rocky, and he tells her about Candace beating him with the golf club. He tells her be careful, but she says she still has to work a john. He asks how it’s going, and she says, better. Today, she’s ovulating. He tells her to be careful, but she says, this one is worth it. She needs him to apologize to Candace, and he says, hell no. She says he’s on the inside, and she needs it to happen; just apologize. She needs to know what Candace is up to, and he’s the only one who knows her. She’ll pay him when payday comes. He asks how much, and she says they only deal in millions. He tells her to let him get out, and he’ll think about it.

David goes to Kathryn’s house. He needs Jim to talk him down. Veronica made him come out of himself; he had to pimp slap her. Jim laughs, and David says it’s not funny; he feels terrible. Jim says, about a bitch who tried to burn him alive in his own house? David knows it sounds crazy. Jim asks how hard it is when you pimp slap someone, and David says she flew across the room. Jim can barely keep it together, and says he gave that bitch some wings. David says it was a lot of rage, especially for him. Jim thinks David should have let him take her out when he had the opportunity. David asks where Kathryn is, but Jim doesn’t know and doesn’t care. David says Veronica is going to retaliate, and it will be brutal. He thinks she’ll go after Erica first. Jim asks if she’s the girl living with him, and says David is smitten. David admits he is, and Jim asks what he knows about her. David says he’s not marrying her. He had Oscar check her out, and Jim snarks that’s a real confidence builder. Oscar had better get his money back. Candace put it in Benny’s name. David calls her a clever fox, but Jim says he’s a clever fox watcher, and he’s not playing in the trash anymore. Sarah comes up the walk, and Jim says, here comes his get-out-of-jail-free card. David should leave – plausible deniability.

Sarah gives Jim the evidence envelope, and says, we’re done. Jim says, not quite, but she means it. He repeats, not quite. He wants to show her something upstairs. She says it’s his wife’s house, and she’s not doing that. She’s done, and she means it. She walks out, and Jim smiles.

Candace goes to Hanna’s house. Benny asks where she got the money, and she says she blackmailed someone powerful. Hanna says, first Jim, now the man running for President. Candace says she’s talking to Benny, and she’s not telling who. He needs to open an account, and move the money. She’ll give him a million dollars. It’s for the tow yard and house; she wants to make it right. Hanna asks how can she make right what she’s got wrong? Candace says she was talking to Benny, but Hanna says, it’s her house. Candace asks, is it? Candace tells Benny that she’ll leave the money in the account for him, and that thing. Benny tells her to watch her mouth. She asks if he doesn’t want a fresh start. Benny says someone is going to be after her; they always are. Hanna tells her that everything she does, comes back around; it already has. Candace says she’s heard that before. Hanna is like a broken record or an R&B song – or is it an old Negro spiritual? Hanna says this is the kind of mess that her baby got killed over; is she crazy? Candace says she needs the money. Hanna calls it death money, and shows her a picture of Quincy Jr. She asks if Benny is going to be a criminal too, and why can’t Candace look at the picture? She tells Candace, it takes two signatures, and Benny says, she’s right. Candace wants to know why Hanna is like this; so self-righteous. She tells Benny that she needs this, but he says he can’t do it without Hanna. Candace tells Hanna that the money is hers. Hanna says it’s blackmail money, not her money. She won’t give it to Candace, but she will give it back. Candace asks, to who? Hanna says, the FBI. They must be looking for it.

The doorbell rings. It’s the police with a warrant for Benny, and they arrest him.

Next time, Candace wants her money and says, don’t make her show how evil she can be; Justin visits Wyatt, and suggests he hang himself; and Candace calls RJ for some muscle against her mother. Who will get revenge first?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sam punches the bag at the gym, while Chase holds it. Chase has to get back to the station. Jason comes in, and asks if she needs help. Chase leaves, and Sam asks if he wants her to hold the bag. He does. He needs to punch something.

Drew visits Elizabeth. He says he got the invitation to their wedding in November, and wondered if it was a mistake. Elizabeth says she sent them out early. I’d say so. Drew isn’t so sure he should have been invited.

Ava tells Franco, there’s all kinds of ways; a rowboat on a quiet lake, a drum in a landfill. Franco says that’s a bad idea because of scavengers. She says this is why she needs his help. He thinks of everything.

At Charlie’s, Alexis tells Kiki that she’s going to file the lawsuit, get Francesca’s deposition, and canvas the hospital to see if anyone else has had a problem with David. Kiki says now she’ll be dragging in her coworkers. Alexis says if she’s serious, she has to woman up. Kiki doesn’t want to cause trouble for anyone else. Alexis says she’s not causing trouble. David walks in, and she says, he is. She tells Kiki to keep her eyes on her, and says he had the courage to get it rolling.

Finn calls Anna, and leaves a message. He misses her.

Dante wanders around his apartment. He remembers saving Lulu from drowning. His phone, and he asks, how much time does he have?

Michael tells Nelle once the baby comes, things will get better and they’ll get closer. He asks her to marry him. He suggests they make it official, and become a family.

Lulu comes home, and Dante hopes he didn’t take her away from anything. She’s working on a story, but says it can wait; what’s up? He tells her to sit down, and she asks if someone died. He says, no, and she says he scared her. Dante says it’s something good. There’s been a lead on the location of Rog, the guy who tried to drown her. The WSB is putting together a task force, and he’s going to be part of it. He’s been accepted as a temporary transfer, and he’s leaving tonight.

Nelle doesn’t know what to say, and Michael tells her to say yes. She says, it’s sudden. He says they’ve been through so much, and ever since she got pregnant, they’ve been growing closer. She says she feels that way too, but he’s taken every opportunity to make sure she knows they’re not a couple. Marriage and parenthood don’t always go together. He asks if she’s turning him down.

Sam is glad to see Jason. The last time they met, he was thinking of committing himself to help Carly. He says he came close. He got a job as a custodian at Ferncliff, after Elizabeth gave him a recommendation from GH. Sam says that was smart, and he can keep an eye on Carly. He says it worked great until Doc got him fired.

Elizabeth tells Drew that she thought he supported her relationship with Franco. He says he does, but he’s not sure Franco would want him there. She says he insisted, and Drew teases that she must be the one who didn’t want to invite him. She says she didn’t want to set Franco up for disappointment if Drew turned them down.

Ava makes more suggestions to Franco; something to induce a heart attack, or an untraceable poison. She wonders if Julian still has connections in the chemical industry. Franco says they can’t actually kill David – or can they? Finn comes by, and says Franco likes it bloody, right?

Alexis tells Kiki to ignore David, and she says she’s been doing it for months, and look where it got her. Alexis says she’s filing a lawsuit. Kiki says he thinks he’s already beaten her, but little does he know she’s dragging his butt to court. Alexis thinks it’s time to let him know. She walks over to David, and tells him she’s on her way to the courthouse to file a lawsuit against him. He says, it’s ridiculous. Kiki’s allegations are frivolous and nonexistent. She tells him to lawyer up, and she’ll see him in court.

Finn tells Franco, sorry to interrupt, but he was getting food and thought Franco would like a burger. Franco thanks him, but says he’s not hungry. Finn says he’ll tell Elizabeth he tried. He leaves, and Ava asks why Franco didn’t say yes. They could start a casual conversation about infectious diseases. Franco says they’re not actually doing it. She says they were discussing possibilities, but Franco says they were venting. Ava says, she doesn’t vent; she acts, and David can’t get away with what he’s going to Kiki.

Lulu is shocked that Dante joined the WSB, and he’s leaving. He says it’s a temporary transfer, and she asks why they need him. He tells her that he asked to be included; Rog tried to kill her. She says it was over two years ago. Dante says he was never caught, and he’s got a chance to resolve this. Lulu would rather he got away than have Dante leave. Dante says he’s trafficking military grade weapons. If they can get him, there’s a chance to shut down a pipeline of illegal weapons. She doesn’t see why he has to be part of it.

Franco tells Ava that he recently went through his own personal hell, and doesn’t want to do it again, so he’s avoiding things like planning a murder. Kiki will have her day in court, and Alexis is representing her. Ava says less than 10% of these cases go to trial, and even fewer are successful. The odds are that he’ll be out there harassing women again in no time. What if his next victim is more vulnerable, and can’t stand up and fight back? She tells Franco to stop waffling and agree to help.

At the hospital, David sees Scotty, and asks if he isn’t an attorney. He needs to be vindicated, and the process, can make them very rich men.

Alexis tells Kiki, that was fun. David is probably on the phone right now, getting counsel. She tells Kiki to be ready for the onslaught. Kiki says, no turning back, and leaves. Alexis says, one lousy man down, a bunch more to go. Finn walks in.

Sam says Carly was going to Doc for therapy, and he seems like a good guy. She’s never heard anything bad about him. Jason says Doc thought he was protecting Carly. He was afraid Jason would be recognized, and it would come out that he knew him. He didn’t want to be taken off the case or the staff at Ferncliff. Sam kind of agrees. She thinks Carly needs a doctor on her side. Jason says he understands – if it was anybody but Carly. He didn’t just go to watch out for her; he went to talk her down.

Michael asks if Nelle doesn’t want a loving, stable home with both parents for their baby. She says, of course, but a lot of people co-parent without getting married. She doesn’t want to get married just because they’re having a child; those marriages are doomed. He says what if it’s more than that. It took Chase’s threat to open his eyes. They had something real once; it’s the reason they’re having a child. Maybe they can get it back. She asks if he’s saying he feels the same way she does. Does he still love her?

Dante tells Lulu that he’s good at undercover work. Rog has never seen him, and knows nothing about him. He can work for the security firm that’s Rog’s front. Lulu says he can do a couple of jobs and get in contact, and Dante says, that’s sort of the plan. She tells him that he’s not just risking his life; he’s risking the life of her husband, and Rocco and Charlotte’s father. Dante says he does it every day; it’s part of his job. She says, this is different, and he says, he knows.

Sam knows Ferncliff is horrible, but Carly knows he and Sonny are working to get her out. She just has to wait. Jason says when Carly panics, she does the wrong thing. It’s bad in there. She’s in a maximum-security wing, where the other patients are sick and dangerous. The supervising nurse is watching her, and trying to over-medicate her. Sooner or later, Carly is going to want to fight back. Ferncliff is designed to break you down, until all that’s left is instinct. Carly will come out swinging, and it won’t work. He can’t let that happen.

Elizabeth asks if Drew is there to decline the invitation, but he wanted to make sure Franco knew he was being invited. He doesn’t want to ruin the celebration. Elizabeth asks how he would do that, and Drew says he could be a reminder of the worst thing tat ever happened to Franco.

David tells Scotty that GH exonerated him, but no steps have been taken to clear his name. The piece Lulu published was filled with Kiki’s accusations. He’s suffered grievous damage as a result. Scotty says he’s done his homework; that’s the money word. He can sue Kiki, GH, and the Port Charles Press. That’s where the money is.

Franco says he thought Ava had a man in her life. When did he become her go-to? She says Griff cares very much, and he’s furious, but he’s not kind of guy who has it in him to do what needs to be done. Franco thinks she’s worried Griff will find out what she’s capable of doing. He wants to do right by Elizabeth, and doesn’t want to get involved. Murder is drastic, and he thinks they should reconvene after they see what the trial brings. Ava asks what if the law fails? He says if the law fails Kiki, they won’t.

Finn tells Alexis, it’s been a while. He keeps thinking he’ll see her at a meeting. She says she changed her schedule. He hopes it’s not because of him, and hopes that wasn’t as egotistical as it sounded. She says it’s because of work, but if she’s being honest, she’s still a bit mad at him.

Nelle asks again if Michael still loves her. He says he was afraid, and listening to others instead of his heart. He’s not doing that anymore. He’s always known they belonged together, and never stopped loving her. He kisses her, and she says she’ll marry him.

Dante tells Lulu that he’s not forgetting her, their kids, or the life they have, but arms dealers bring misery and death to millions of people. This is a way to make a change. Lulu suggests someone else can do it, but he says that’s the definition of apathy. It’s not why he became a cop and she became a journalist. She’s surprised he’s suddenly supporting her career. He says maybe he understands how. If you can make a change, you have to do it. It’s what they’re trying to teach their kids, and they should lead by example. She says it’s happening fast, and asks how much time they have for a proper goodbye. He says, long enough, so take from that what you will. They kiss.

Drew tells Elizabeth it’s no secret that the wedding is the most important thing in Franco’s life. He doesn’t want to be the dark cloud. She says he must really care about Franco. Franco cares about him too. She thinks he considers Drew one of his friends, but he’s waiting to see if Drew shows up before asking him to hang out. She tells Drew not to tell him about their conversation. Drew gets it; you have to take care of friends.

Jason tells Sam there are few leads. If Doc declares Carly sane, she can get out, but it takes time. Sam asks what if he can’t find evidence, and he says he’ll break her out. He had had time to study Ferncliff, and it’s an easy in and out. Sam says they’ll be fugitives. He says they’ll go to Canada, and let the lawyers figure it out. She doesn’t think Carly would leave her family, and if they get caught, Jason will go to Pentonville, and Carly will go back to Ferncliff. Then what? If Carly isn’t going to think, he’ll have to do it for her. Running will just make it worse. He says he has to prove she’s innocent.

Ava tells Franco that her way is more expedient, and he says he’s learning to delay gratification, and not let things lead to a trial afterward. Scotty comes by, and tells them David asked him to represent him in a countersuit. Franco says, he refused, right?

Finn tells Alexis that she’s one of the most politely enraged people he’s ever met. She says cynicism is her specialty, but it’s a way of masking pain. It’s the pain part she’s not good at. She’s realized she doesn’t know much, but needs to figure out why she does what she does. Finn says she didn’t do anything; he did. She asks if he’s making this about him. It’s about her choosing the wrong men, and the wrong men being drawn to her. That part is about him, since he’s one of them.

Chase goes to Dante’s place. Dante tells him that he’s leaving on a special assignment, and asks him to look after Michael. He’s not sure he trusts Chase completely though. He had it bad for Nelle, and was on the verge of throwing away his career. Chase says she got away because he screwed up. He’s not letting her do it again, to Michael or anyone else. Dante says he’ll have to trust him, calling him partner. Chase says, safe travels, partner, and they shake hands.

Alexis tells Finn that she had no business getting into a relationship with him. She wasn’t ready, and he clearly was pining for another woman. She’s now becoming aware of a pattern, and she’s trying to change it. She thanks him for being a jerk. He says she’s welcome.

Ava says Scotty couldn’t pass it up when he saw an opportunity for himself. Scotty says he turned David down. At first he agreed, but he gave it some thought, and then told him to go fly a kite. He’s a good father and a good friend, so thank you very much. Ava and Franco exchange looks. Ava smiles, and Scotty says, what?

Sam asks what kind of evidence Jason is looking for. He says the scarf, for one thing. She tells him that Nelle probably got rid of it, but he says he can find out where she bought in the first place. The break-in at Bobbie’s will be harder to prove; Nelle is good at covering her tracks. If he could find the bottle of cologne that was sprayed at Morgan’s gravesite, it would be something. He tells her that Nelle led Carly there by leaving a note on the back of a flyer, but when Chase saw it, the note was blank. Sam says, disappearing ink. Jason agrees, since there’s no way Nelle had time to switch it out. She asks if he’s sure Chase found the flyer, and Jason says he testified at the trial. She wonders what happened to it, but Jason doesn’t know, and Sonny has no idea. Sam says she might.

Elizabeth asks Drew if there’s been any word on Peter. He says, no, and she says he’s not going through the procedure with Andre, is he? He says he decided to move forward. Elizabeth is glad, and says a lot of people love him. He doesn’t like Jason’s memories banging around in his head, but she tells him to make memories of his own. He doesn’t need to carry the burden of Jason’s past.

There’s a breaking story that couldn’t wait ten minutes. I only miss a few minutes, and I know we’ll all figure it out. Just fill in the blank with Magic Milo if all else fails.

At the station, Michael tells Chase that he and Nelle were hoping Dante could help them with a marriage license, and speed along the process. Chase says it seems sudden. Michael says it was spur of the moment. Nelle says they were talking about the future and unfinished business. Michael says they decided to finish it together.

Scotty asks what Ava and Franco are suggesting; that he take on David, and then take a dive with the case? Ava says if he wins, David gets a chance at the next victim. His greatest win can be a loss. She’s willing to compensate him at double his rate.

Alexis promises not to ambush Finn again. He’s glad to help her clarify things, and asks if she’s still angry. She says, consumed, but not at him. He’s looking forward to the day when she’s not calling him Dr. Finn.

On the phone, David says he has a time sensitive issue that needs addressing. In the meantime, he’ll contact other lawyers. Scotty approaches him, and says good news. It turns out he has an opening. David says, that quickly? He was under the impression Scotty didn’t care for him. Scotty says he doesn’t have to like him. He’s being paid to defend him. He suggests they talk about strategy.

Elizabeth tells Drew that he doesn’t have to own mistakes that aren’t his; let them go. Drew knows a lot of stuff that can get Jason locked up. Elizabeth says Jason should be thankful he’s not that kind of guy.

On the phone, Sam thanks Sergeant somebody. She tells Jason, jackpot. When Chase answered the call about Carly being in the cemetery, there was one piece of evidence – the flyer. If it’s the same one, Spinelli should be able to make the message reappear. Jason says he has to get his hands on the flyer, but Sam says, not you; us.

Tomorrow, Maxie’s shower, Sam tells Jason it’s like old times, and Carly asks Doc if he got Jason fired.

Southern Charm

FYI Patricia’s cardigan from last week’s episode is by Dolce and Gabbana. In other words, I can’t afford it.

Craig works on some patriotic patterns. He asks Sean for help. In his interview, he says if Patricia had given him one more night, she’d have a bad-ass pillow concept, but it was a matter of principal. No. One night would have led to one more night and so on, and she knew it.

Cameran visits Shep. She likes his new décor He’s trying to make meatballs, and puts on an apron that has a graphic of a bodybuilder’s body. Cameran asks if he’s drunk, but he says he’s overwhelmed. In her interview, Cameran feels guilty to be out without Palmer, but she has to manage being a mother with her life, since babies are parasites and you’re their personal assistant. She thinks Shep should start over, and has to tell him not to touch things after touching raw meat. He says his mother has always done everything for him. Cameran thought she was useless in the kitchen, but at least she can read a recipe. She asks about Craig, and Shep says he made out with a chick at the bar. Austen had to beg him to kiss him to kiss her. Cameran says, Craig is such a girl. She says Shep can cook these for date, and he says if he wants to get rid of her. She tells him if relationships aren’t important, don’t rush it. He asks if he can just marry Kathryn.

Thomas is coming over to Patricia’s, so she warns Michael. What the hell? Her pen looks like a flamingo. She’s always full of surprises. Thomas arrives, and asks for Hamptons Gatorade aka rosé. Patricia is having a winter wonderland ball, and it’s going to be black tie. She’s counting on Thomas on the dance floor. He hopes his foot is healed from polo. He’s having one last hurrah this weekend. In his interview, he says he has the kids now, and can’t afford to get injured. Like anything else in life, when you get something, you have to give something back.

Patricia thinks Ashley is having a hard time, and tells Thomas about her visit. He thinks there’s unevenness in the relationship, and resentment on both their parts. She could level the playing field by working, and focus on something other than him. Patricia says she told Ashley the same thing. Thomas says when he asked why she loved him, she said he was a good provider. Patricia says that translates into, he’s got money. In her interview, Patricia says, no job, no interests, no friends, and is just hanging out in an apartment paid for by Thomas. The word that comes to mind, is gold-digger. Thomas isn’t sure if this is what he wants, and she tells him to make a commitment or cut Ashley loose. Bring me the scissors.

Shep meets Kathryn on the pier. He’s gotten corndogs for them, and a bird almost steals Shep’s. He was sorry to hear about last week, and Kathryn says everyone thought she’d fallen off the wagon. It’s everyone’s go-to, and it’s not a problem, but it’s her label now. She explains she stopped taking her meds because she thought she didn’t need them. Shep says she’s doing well, and next time, just give them a heads up. He says everyone loves her. She gets weepy, and he hugs her. She says she stopped feeling that she could bring anything worthy to a relationship or friendship. Shep says if she had a batting average, she’d be hall of fame material.

Shep asks if Kathryn is going to the polo match, and she calls it Thomas’s final ride. She says she lived in the basement of Brookland Plantation for a year with Kensie. In her interview, she says it was a lonely time, and she thinks her depression started then. Thomas thought she would magically become the perfect companion and mother. We flash back to him complaining about dinner. She was twenty-two, with no family or friends, and cried on a daily basis. She tells Shep that she’s afraid she’ll feel emotional. She’s doing well, but still feels the weight of what happened. Shep says if she gets anxious, come sit with him in the corner, and they can make fun of everyone.

Chelsea and Austen meet for drinks. They do oyster shots. Chelsea thinks they smell horrible, but then says it tasted fantastic, and asks for another. Austen tells her about his tiff with Victoria, and how she threw a drink at him because he told her about hugging Chelsea. Chelsea asks if Austen would be okay with Victoria hanging out with an ex. He says it’s too early in the relationship for fights, so he’s done. He asks how she’s dealing with dating, but Chelsea says she’s at good and safe place, and it’s what she wants right now. In his interview, Austen is relieved it’s not him. She tells him that he’s one of her best friends, and he says he feels the same way. They get a plate of oysters, and Chelsea asks if they should go to the dance together. She means Patricia’s ball, but it sounds like high school. He wonders if she’s asking him out, but she says, no, nope, no.

Naomie and Chelsea go shopping. Naomie brings along Rocky the kitten, who she rescued on the way there. Rocky has some kind of back leg issue, and is wearing a diaper. And yes, Rocky is very cute. Chelsea asks if the polo match requires Kentucky Derby attire, but Naomie says, no, because it’s cold. They discuss being worried about Kathryn going, but Chelsea says Kathryn has them. She tries on clothes, while Naomie plays with Rocky, who tries to nurse on her.

Thomas takes Ashley to the plantation. She wishes they spent more time there, but thinks it’s boring for him. In his interview, Thomas says he wanted a companion and a best friend, but it’s different now. He feels like women are attracted to him for the wrong reasons. He thought fortune and fame would attract the right kind of woman, but he had it backwards. They check out the barn and horses. Thomas says he gets a rush out of playing polo. It’s going to be difficult to give it up, but he needs to, now that he has the kids.

Ashley says it will be fun to see him play. She talks about how beautiful the plantation is. It would be great for parties, and perfect for a wedding, because she just can’t stop herself. Thomas says he sees her as a wonderful person with a wonderful career. It’s one of the reasons he brought her here, but the way it’s going, he feels like a sugar daddy. Ashley says she wants it to succeed, Thomas says, he does too, but the energy needs to change. She’s insecure because she depends on him, and it puts her in a subservient position. Getting a job and being self-sufficient will change the energy. She says he’s telling her like she never worked before, when all she did was hustle. A nurse works holidays and weekends, and he might not like it. He’ll still be raging, but she won’t be chasing after him. He needs to change too. He says she needs to be independent, because it’s a good thing to do. Sorry, if she doesn’t want to work. He says, maybe they shouldn’t do this, if she thinks he’s such a such terrible person. She says, if she’s a terrible person. He says maybe they should call it quits.

Polo announcer Buck says you usually leave polo two ways; dead or broke. It’s miraculous not to break any bones. In his interview, Thomas is surprised the government allows it. It’s an extremely dangerous sport.

Danni and Kathryn get ready together. Kathryn wants Danni to wear a red hat, and Danni calls herself vanilla. Kathryn is glad they had a sleepover. She thinks it will be intense. She’s removed herself from the feelings, but being at Brookland will bring back memories. In her interview, Kathryn says she thought it was the dream; she and Thomas in love on the plantation. It was literally a figment of her imagination. Omg, she looks amazing. She’s wearing a vintage Victorian style button-up black velvet coat, with a military ribbon kind of pin.

Shep asks Craig why he’s not wearing undershirts, and if it’s a laundry issue, but Craig says he doesn’t know what to wear. Everyone starts to trickle in. Shep finds out Austen and Chelsea are going to the Winter Wonderland ball together. Chelsea asks who Shep is taking, and he tells her Kathryn. We flash back to Kathryn telling Shep, when the invitation from Patricia came, she thought she was being served. Shep thinks maybe Patricia has come to the understanding that this Kathryn isn’t the same one she knew. We see a clip of Shep promoting the new Kathryn to Whitney and Patricia, telling them how much she helped him after his surgery.

Thomas and the other players get ready. Shep waves to Thomas, and Ashley says he’s acknowledging Shep, but not her. She tells Shep things are not happy. Her voice is hoarse, and she says it’s because of stress, and she has stress related anxiety. Thomas is all she has. She’s alone and isolated, and doesn’t want to waste her time. Shep, who looks like he wants to disappear, says maybe she should think about that. She asks if Shep would date her if she broke up with Thomas. In his interview, Shep just chokes. He tells her he’s not a good safe bet. She thought it would be a good reason to stay in South Carolina.

JD (bleh) arrives. Ashley is happy to see him. Kathryn and Danni are next. Kathryn tells Danni it’s weird. Thomas lets Kathryn know they’re winning, and the team is undefeated. She thanks him for having them. She shows Danni where she and Kensie lived. She says she remembers the smell of the barn, and how the screen door sounded. Nothing has changed. Kathryn makes the rounds, and Ashley tells no one in particular that she doesn’t want to effing talk to her. I’m sure it’s mutual.

Kathryn tells Chelsea it’s the first time she’s been there since the break-up. She doesn’t know if she feels good or sad. Chelsea says, life is weird. JD asks Ashley how the relations is going. She says they argue too much, and when she talks to his dad, he always mentions that she’s still there. Chelsea suggests Craig and Naomie go to the ball together. Naomie asks if Craig wants to, and he says they’d have to talk. Chelsea tells him to quit being the p-word. In his interview, Austen says it’s an easy lie to avoid. Just tell her he’s bringing someone else. Craig says it’s different for them, since he thought they were getting married.

JD tells Ashley to applaud, and she asks if the match is over. JD says she was busy socializing, but it was good polo. They go to another area for a buffet picnic, featuring oysters on the lawn. Shep likes a change of venue. Kathryn says it’s weirding her out that she’s not even sad. It’s the place she thought she’d have a nuclear family, but she’s at peace with it. She says she never thought she would get over Thomas, and it’s good closure. She sees a fountain, and says that’s where Kensie was christened. We flash back to that. Everyone drinks and chows down.

Craig says Thomas looks like a Jersey mafia boss. Okay. If he says so. Craig tells Thomas there’s nothing wrong with Ashley not working, but there has to be resentment. Thomas says Ashley will get mad about something, and he thinks he just bought her twenty-grand worth of clothes. Craig decides to tell Thomas something Ashley said to him. She told him if he was only a few years older, she would be dating him. He wonders if she really meant wealthier and more established. JD says it’s hard to have a relationship with someone who’s constantly talking about a back-up plan. Craig says he knew he and Naomie were in trouble when he stopped feeling happy to see her car in the driveway. He asks how Thomas feels, and Thomas says he looks forward. He’s smart enough not to be looking up, while he’s walking through a cow field. I guess this is some kind of Southern wisdom that I don’t get.

Kathryn tells Thomas he did a good job, and they sit together. Ashley babbles to the ladies that Thomas goes for opinionated women, and she’s an alpha female. She says Kathryn is a scary one. Thomas tells Kathryn that the relationship is stressful. She says sometimes they don’t work out. They didn’t work out, but they did okay. He says he doesn’t have much success in his personal life. Kathryn says she can see where there’s a pattern. He’s a person who wants to get along with everyone, and needs to protect himself more. Things get over-complicated, but at the end of the day, it’s simple; there doesn’t have to be drama. She points out that Ashley is upset watching them talk. Thomas sagely says, you can please some people some of the time, but you can’t please everyone, adding a few other bon mots, like, to thine own self be true. He quotes a lot when he’s around Kathryn. Is she the only other one who reads? She asks if he feels like she’s less of a psycho now, since he’s dated Ashley, and they laugh. She says she’s there if he wants to talk.

When everyone is gone. Thomas and Ashley sit inside. Thomas says he didn’t get any oysters, and Ashley says she didn’t get to say goodbye to everyone. She asks how his conversation with Kathryn went, and he says it was calm and peaceful. She says she talked to Shep and JD, and everyone seems to ask how it’s going with the relationship. He asks what she told them, and she says they’re taking it day by day. She can’t pretend it’s wonderful. She wants it to get better, but with the arguments, she doesn’t know what else to do. Thomas says it’s not what he wants, and if he can’t be true to himself, he can’t be true to her or anyone else. Ashley says even if it ended right now, she’d do it over. She’s learned a lot about herself. Ha-ha! I’d almost feel sorry about her desperation if she wasn’t so mean. She says he was there for her, and she doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t want to throw in the towel after investing so much. She loves him, and has more fight in her. She wants to say she tried, and he has the opportunity to give that to her. Thomas asks if she wants to continue. She says she has hope. Me too. That he dumps her and we never see her flip her hair again.

Next time, the season finale, Kathryn gets an Instagram message that Ashley was a high-end escort (frankly, I don’t think she’s refined enough), the Winter Wonderland ball happens, Craig apologizes to Naomie, Ashley threatens Kathryn, and calls her an egg donor.

🎃 Halloween a la The Countess…

Tonight, on Watch What Happens Live, we saw Elizabeth Perkins’s dedication to LuAnn on Halloween. I literally LOL’d.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly does push-ups. Jason peeks into her room. They put their hands on opposite sides of the glass in the window. I tell them to get a room. Jasper sees Jason, and tells him to make himself useful and open the door. His hands are full of food trays, and he tells Carly take one. She pulls the bottom one out, and he spills them all over the place. He calls her an idiot, and tells Jason to clean it up

Mike asks if Sonny knows Charlie. Sonny says they’ve never met personally. He wonders if Mike remembers him from the 90s, when he used to live across the street. Mike says, not then. He hasn’t seen Charlie since Sonny was about eighteen. Sonny thinks Mike might be mistaking him for someone else, but Mike insists he knows that man.

Sam tells Curtis there’s no trace of Peter anywhere. Curtis says he left Peter’s picture wherever he went. Sam says some people recognized him, but only from the news. Curtis says he got away clean. Sam says, or he’s hiding in Port Charles. Someone is helping him.

Nina finds little Morocco in her office, and Valentin tells her, welcome back. He sent her assistant away for the evening. Now she can have Morocco without the seven-hour plane ride. She says it was a long time ago. He says it was when they fell back in love, and hopes this reminds that they still can.

Julian sees Alexis at the hospital, and says it’s perfect timing. He was about to let Doc know his decision. He’s going to therapy with her. She asks if Kim gave the green light. He says she no issue with it, and it’s his call. She asks why he agreed. He tells her that she said she needed closure, and he owes her that much. She appreciates it, and he says to let him know when best time is. She says, how about now?

Sam tells Curtis maybe they’re overthinking it. Curtis asks if he’s laying low and waiting. Who would help him? He’s torched every relationship he had. Sam wonders about Valentin. Valentin is his only ally. Sam says, that they know of. Curtis says, the jet never took off and there’s been no trace of him. Sam is sure it must be Valentin.

Nina doesn’t like people messing around with her office. Valentin says he’s not people, he’s her husband. She tells him to enjoy the title while he has it trying. He says he was trying to do something special, and she says it’s Arabian Nights themed prom in her office. He wants her to see what they have to lose; Morocco was incredible. Nina says especially when the expensive necklace was stolen, and Valentin returned it, because he seems to have criminal ties all over the earth. He says he took a beating, but she nursed him back to health. He loves when she takes care of him. He loves when she loves him. He talks about making love in the moonlight, with distant waves crashing on the beach. He says, there was no past, just a future. She is his future. Tell him she feels the same. She says she doesn’t.

Alexis thinks she and Julian should get it over with. He says it’s a little fast, but she says, not for her; she just wants closure. She thanks Julian, and says she’ll talk to Doc. Lucas overhears, and tells Julian that sounded almost too civil. Julian says he’s just doing Alexis a favor, and hopes she’s willing to reciprocate.

Mike says he met Charlie in Port Charles, but not when he lived there. Sonny thinks Mike might be confused, and Mike tells Sonny not to talk down to him. If he listens, he might find out something. Sonny moves to take his arm, and Mike pulls away, saying he’s not an invalid. DA Margaux walks in, and sees the two of them arguing. She asks if there’s a problem here. She sees Sonny, and says they meet again.

Carly wants to hug Jason, but he suggests she doesn’t, since they can be seen through the window. She can’t believe Jasper locked him in there; she could be dangerous. He tells her it was a nice move, getting him to spill the trays, but don’t do it again. She says she’s trying to ignore Mary Pat, but every time she brings up Morgan’s death, she wants to punch her. Jason tells her not to give in. There’s no fight worth winning in there. She only wins when she walks away free. Carly wonders when that will be. Since it’s been all of two days.

Sonny says that everything is fine, and Margaux tells him, if he says so. She wonders why he’s hanging out in a place owned by Julian Jerome. He says they sell Corinthos Coffee. Mike asks if Sonny knows her, and Sonny tells him that she’s the new DA, Margaux Dawson. She asks Mike if Sonny is bothering him, and Mike says if she calls interrupting bothering. Sonny tells Margaux this is father. He mentioned him on the stand; does she remember that? Mike says, what he said. They were just having squabble about when Sonny got started in the business. She asks if they were talking about coffee.

Lucas tells Julian that he doesn’t want to know. Julian says Brad stopped by and told him Alexis is handling the adoption. He hopes she does good by them. Lucas says she’s focused on the legalities, since the only one who has any control is the birth mother. Lucas leaves, and Alexis returns. She tells Julian that Doc gave go the ahead. She asks if he’s ready, and he says as he’ll ever be.

Nina tells Valentin that she doesn’t love him anymore, breaking my heart into a million pieces. He says he doesn’t believe it. She says, that’s the problem. There’s a direct connection between his lies and her brother’s death. His failure to act was an act in itself. He knew Faison was looking for Peter. He made her doubt herself, when the whole time he was undermining her. He says he didn’t know what to do. She says she can’t trust what comes out of his mouth, and he says he never lied about loving her. She tells him love means trust and honesty, but she doesn’t know what it means to him. Reminding her of the trip reminds her that she never should have given their marriage a second chance.

Doc thanks Julian for joining them, and he says it’s not how he saw his day going. Doc asks Alexis to explain what she’s hoping to accomplish. She says she started therapy because she has issues she thinks might have started with her father. He was ruthless, amoral, and cruel. If you loved him, you either adapted to his cruelty or paid price. Her mother paid with her life. No one was left unscathed, including her. Watching his behavior has had a bit of an effect on her. Doc asks if she means it had an influence on her romantic relationships. Alexis says if a man was stable, she’d run for the hills. Doc asks if she ever saw her father behave that way, and she says only if it was a manipulative tactic. Doc wonders if it feels like a trap to her, but she says it feels foreign. Love is obsessive, compulsive, and damaging. From what she witnessed growing up, love could get you killed. Julian remembers her telling him about how Mikkos got off on power and enjoyed ruining people’s lives; love was transactional. Julian asks how he fits in. She can’t believe doesn’t see connection. Neither can I. He says maybe it works for Sonny and Ric. Alexis says they didn’t hold a knife to her throat. Julian says he had no choice. She says he did; he could have told her the truth. The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter it happened; it happened. He says he couldn’t risk his family’s lives. She says he dragged to a pier and held a knife to her throat, making her think he was going to kill her. The only way to cope, was to drink herself into a stupor. It didn’t work. She had sex with him, knowing he’s hurt her again. Julian gets up, saying this was a mistake. Alexis says she wants closure, but if she’s just looking to rake him over the coals, he’s calling the whole thing off.

At the hospital, Brad sees Lucas peeking into a room window. He says something is distracting Lucas; a mother and a newborn. That will be them any day now. Lucas if afraid the birth mother is going to change her mind; it’s keeping him up at night. Brad suggest he go home, have a glass of wine or three, and rest. Lucas is worried about falling in love with the child, and having them taken away. How would they deal with that? Brad says it’s not in their hands. It sucks, but they agreed to keep the faith, and believe everything will work out. They’ve done all they can. Lucas asks why aren’t they talking about names then?

Valentin says Nina gave him thirty days to be a better husband. She says she signed that to humor him. She just wants a divorce. He thinks they can still make it right. She says nothing can make it right. Because of his silence, her brother is dead, and she’s had to take justice into her own hands. He asks what she means by that.

Sam thinks Valentin helped Peter, but something wrong. Between the hotel and the jet, Peter vanished. Curtis says maybe Valentin doesn’t know anything about it. He claims Peter just disappeared. The hotel room has been searched by everyone from forensics to the WSB. Sam says it hasn’t been searched by Ashford and McCall.

Jason cleans up the mess in Carly’s room. She says she should be enjoying it, but wants to help him, and can’t because Jasper will report it to Mary Pat. Jason says Jasper is a bully, but Mary Pat is dangerous. She has it in for Carly. Carly doesn’t know why; she’s not a threat. Jason says she can’t hide how strong she is, and that threatens her. She’ll make excuses to find Carly wrong. Carly says if she was thinking strategically, she’d do what Doc said, and tell him to quit.

Sonny asks Mike to get another round of coffee. He tells Margaux if she has questions, ask him. Don’t play games with his dad. She knows he has Alzheimer’s. She says they might have been discussing his criminal enterprise. Sonny says if she’s implying that he’s anything less than an upstanding citizen, she’s mistaken. She says he’s been investigated for murder, extortion, and racketeering. He pled guilty to AJ’s murder. His community is organized crime. Sonny says, prove it. Everyone else has failed. She says she’s not everyone else. He says no; she’s cruel. She comes after him through his wife.

Carly says someone could recognize Jason, but he came anyway. He says the hard part was getting hired. Mary Pat believed his resume and references. Carly is sure Spinelli was thorough, and Jason tells her that Elizabeth gave him a recommendation letter. Carly wishes it was safe for him to be there. He says on thins he knows, Mary Pat likes to be right, and she hired him. If he keeps doing a good job, she’ll look at him like her person. Everyone else will just see the uniform. She says unless they see his eyes; they’re memorable. He says, to her, but she says, anyone. He asks if she wants him to stay. She doesn’t think she can make it without him.

Lucas says he can’t pretend he’s not terrified, and Brad says he has his moments of paranoia. He reminds himself that they’re everything a birth mother could want in a couple. They have everything a baby could want. If she didn’t believe that, she would have chosen another couple. They have Alexis in their corner, and she’ll do everything in her power to protect them.

Alexis says Julian wants to be a martyr, and he says it’s not about closure. She wants a free pass to tear into him. She says he wants to be forgiven on his terms. Storming out shows he’s not responsible for his actions. Julian says they clearly don’t need a psychiatrist to play referee. Doc suggests more structure in the session, assuming Julian is willing to continue. Alexis says she’d be grateful if he stayed, and Julian says, okay.

Julian sits back down. Doc asks Julian what drew him to Alexis. When he returned again, he knew their lives were I conflict. He was engaged in a covert criminal enterprise, and Alexis was an attorney who prides herself on her ethical practices. He adds that Alexis encouraged it. Alexis says she encouraged nothing. They’re supposed to be discussing why she’s drawn to dangerous men. Julian says he wanted redemption, and he saw a chance for it in her.

Carly says she keeps repeating what Jason told her; don’t panic, no shortcuts, wait for him and Sonny to get her out. Jason says they will. She knows it intellectually, but when she’s sitting alone or with Mary Pat watching her, she feels trapped. Jason says it takes everything not to make run for it. In Russia, it took him months to plan his escape. They would park him by a widow, where he could see the grounds and the city beyond, but he couldn’t move. He knew he’d be caught. When he finally made a run, he knew he had to make it all the way out, like she’s going to. He tells her to wait. Every day gets her closer to home. If she can’t do it for herself, do it for her family. They need her back. She takes his hand, but Jasper is coming in. He asks if Jason is done. He’s got a lot of corners waiting for him. He tells Carly since she spilled the tray, she doesn’t eat until the next meal.

Margaux tells Sonny that she didn’t scapegoat his wife. He says she wants to try anyone who’s a Corinthos. When the judge said she wasn’t guilty – Margaux says, by reason of insanity – she had her sent to that hellhole because of revenge. Margaux says the judge remanded her there, and Sonny says, because of her big speech. She got what she wanted. Now Carly is in lock-up with psychotic murderers. Margaux says, she pushed a pregnant woman down the stairs. Sonny says Nelle admitted she played tricks on Carly, and Margaux asks if he’s implying Nelle deserved to be pushed down the stairs. Sonny says he’s implying there was no justice at the trial. It was about ambition, and she’s responsible for the misery that came out of it. Margaux says she became a DA because she believes in justice, order, and structure. People like him flaunt their disregard for it. She did the same thing she would have done if it were anyone else. His wife committed a felony, and was prosecuted accordingly. The same way she’ll prosecute him if she has to. He doesn’t want her as enemy. He says there’s no way to avoid it, and she says, let the games begin. She leaves, apparently without ordering. Mike asks who she was, and Sonny says, nobody important.

Alexis asks Julian what made him think she could redeem him? He says maybe he saw something; he didn’t realize it until now. Maybe he thought she was strong enough to handle his darkness; this person, who championed the concepts of right and wrong. Doc asks what value it had to him? He says he never thought he could be good man, but with Alexis, maybe he could be a better man. He didn’t just fall in love with her, but with the idea that he could be a better man. He did horrible things to hold onto that. He can never ask forgiveness, but he’s sorry. Maybe there’s some psychological reason that she’s trying to redeem the men in life, because her mom wasn’t able to redeem her father. Well, I guess they don’t need Doc. He can go home now. Julian says, in her, he saw a chance for redemption. At that point, he was wanting – begging – to be redeemed. He thinks they were just trying to break the cycle of violence with each other. He wishes they had.

Outside Peter’s old hotel room, Curtis tells Sam that Jordan’s team swept it already, and he trusts her. Sam says, and she trusts Jason. Sam opens the lock, and they go inside. Someone’s stuff is there, and Curtis says Olivia didn’t waste time in renting it out. Sam says they have to hurry.

Valentin asks Nina what she means by justice. She says Peter should be in custody, but he’s free instead.  instead free. He says she seems worried, and she says, it’s work. He says she was distracted at The Floating Rib, like she was somewhere else. She apologizes for not giving him her undivided attention while seeking her well-earned divorce. He thinks it’s something else. He tells her that if she’s in trouble, he’ll help her, but she has to tell him what it is.

On the way to the elevator, Alexis tells Julian that she thinks Doc is right, the therapy will be good for them both. He under no pressure though, and she knows it’s more than he bargained for. Julian thinks he’s good to go to future sessions. Clearly, they have other things to address, and owe it to each other to move on with their lives. Alexis says, and here they are. The elevator comes, and Alexis says she’ll do whatever he needs on her end to help him move on; don’t hesitate to ask. He says he’ll think of something one of these days. The elevator door closes.

Lucas agrees with Brad that Alexis is a great lawyer, but she can’t stop the birth mother changing her mind. Brad says they could get hit by a bus, or a giant meteor could obliterate life on earth. There’s potential disaster everywhere. Lucas says Brad’s faith is impressive. Brad promises they’re going to bring the baby home, be amazing parents, and nothing can stop them. Lucas says Brad doesn’t know that. Brad says he can, and promises there’s nothing that can keep them from being parents. They kiss.

Nina says Valentin would love for her to be in a crisis, so he can swoop in and rescue her. Even if she needed rescuing, she’s capable of rescuing herself. He asked if she defended herself on New Year’s Eve, when Cassandra attacked her. She needed his help, and he gave it, no questions asked. He cleaned up any trace that would lead to an investigation. Imagine what would have happened if he’d written her off when she needed him. She asks if he’s trying to blackmail her.

Curtis says the place is cleaned out, but Sam sees something above the window. She calls Curtis over to look. Margaux walks in, and asks what the hell they’re doing in her room.

Sonny tells Mike, sorry for what happened. He doesn’t like fighting with him. He says they can talk about anything, and asks what were they talking about? Mike doesn’t remember. Sonny says it doesn’t matter; he shouldn’t have been pushing him. He’s sorry. Mike says, him too. Sonny doesn’t want to be late for Michael’s dinner. Mike says he’ll meet him outside. On the way out, Sonny looks at picture of Charlie. He calls Max, and says he needs a team to look into someone – Charlie Delaney.

Jason is cleaning in the hallway outside Carly’s room. We hear a scream. Carly says, what the hell? Jason moves toward the other room, and Doc comes down the hall, asking if he can help him with something. Jason asks, who’s the patient in this room?

On Monday, Felicia asks Anna who’s comforting her, Margaux accuses Sam and Curtis of breaking and entering, and Maxie talks to Jordan about Peter.

💍 Thoughts on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

I’m liking Anfisa more. The web cam thing was never an issue, because it’s not like she was doing anything illegal, it’s her decision, and it happened before she and Jorge got together anyway. So pfft! But, for a while, I did think she was using him. I wouldn’t go so far to say it was the other way around, but this dude will say anything he can to get over. She seems to be actually listening to what the counselor is saying. She also wanted him to defend her to his family, but he couldn’t get sister Lourdes on the phone. This prompted one of the producers to ask if the last time he saw Lourdes wasn’t at the divorce lawyer. Talk about stirring the pot. Anfisa wasn’t too happy. When denial didn’t work, Jorge did a lot of singing and dancing, finally agreeing to individual therapy. While at first, I thought Anfisa just wanted a green card, it looks like she really does want to make it work. Why? Who knows.

David made an attempt to have a cohesive family moment, taking Annie and the rest of his clan to the zoo. Daughter Ashley said, with Annie, it could go either way. More like, with Ashley it could go either way. I feel sorry for Annie. She’s another one who was lied to, and she hasn’t done one wrong thing. David insightfully realized that Ashley is taking out her anger at him on Annie, and they all managed to have a peaceful day. Annie basically said David was all talk and no action, and she didn’t want to talk about it anymore. If I was her, I’d head back to Thailand, but insist on keeping the water buffalo or whatever it was he had to give her parents.

Pedro sent his sister a ticket to come and visit, which Chantel did not appreciate, especially since he never once paid for her ticket to the DR. He also sprung it on her while they were furniture shopping, and she had to come to grips with the fact they could no longer to be able to afford the couch she just thought was so comfy. Chantel made it clear that sistergirl is to leave her drama in the DR. That sister is a real piece of work, so I can’t wait to see how this visit goes.

Molly is having a hard time getting Luis out of her house. This guy definitely wins the In-It-For-The-Green-Card award. He probably thought he was getting a free ride too, but didn’t bargain on having to “babysit” and not go to the club every night. He locked himself in the guest bedroom, Ricky Ricardo music on full blast, threatening to call the police. Molly says she’s about to snap. I just have to say it. This is what she gets for being a more than grown-ass woman who’s managed to avoid marriage so far, picking up someone she barely knows, and is of barely-legal age, while on vacation in another country, and marrying them.

Russ hit the nail on the head, saying Pao turns into a mean girl when she’s around Juan. Although she finally left with Russ after the non-fistfight outside the club, she’s not willing to let go of the friendship. I’m not sure why, unless she likes being a mean girl. Or at least acquiescing to a mean queen. I wouldn’t be friends with this guy. This is always going to be a thing between them, like Pao wanting to take her clothes off for the camera.

Which brings us to the biggest mistake of all, Azan and Nicole. A “friend” of Nicole’s told her that a voice recording of Azan had surfaced online. (How much you want to bet the producers have something to do with its sudden appearance?) She listened to them, and he talked about wanting a kiss from some girl, but we didn’t hear another person responding. No surprise, Nicole threw a fit, and called Azan at who-knows-what time it was there. She tried to keep the cameras away, but they remained up her ass. Good job! Azan explained that it was long ago, when he was drunk with his boys, and they were leaving prank messages for girls. Nicole whined for a while, but still got on the plane for Morocco with her toddler, to take on an 18-hour travel day. When Azan met her at the airport, he almost seemed like he really cared about her, which confused me. If nothing else, both of them are too young. Nicole’s MO is to whine until her family agrees with her and does what she wants. I think she might be in for a big surprise when the rest of the world doesn’t follow suit. She’s also been sending Azan some large chunks of cash, but keeps saying it’s no one’s business what her “financials” are. Rightfully so, her mother is concerned, saying it’s like putting a frog in boiling water. If you turn up the heat slowly, it doesn’t realize it’s getting cooked. She thinks Nicole is getting cooked. Like my brain from watching this show.

📺 TV Tidbits

Preacher returns this Sunday, June 24th at 10 pm. I’ve never been able to fully commit to this show due to time constraints, but from what I’ve seen, I definitely want to investigate it further.

I doubt Luis is going to contribute to society, although he might contribute to five-dollar margarita night at Chili’s.

📠 Quotes of the Week

What does a nosy pepper do? Get jalapeno business. – sign at Trader Joe’s

Am I still here? In my mind, I was running so fast. – Earl (Garrett Morris), 2 Broke Girls

Selfish, not self-centered: for in such a life my mind would be directed towards a thousand things, not one of which is myself. The distinction is not unimportant. One of the happiest men and most pleasing companions I have ever known was intently selfish. On the other hand, I have known people capable of real sacrifice whose lives were nevertheless a misery to themselves and others, because self-concern and self-pity filled all their thoughts. Either condition will destroy the soul in the end. But till the end, give me the man who takes the best of everything (even at my expense) and then talks of other things, rather than the man who serves me and talks of himself, and whose very kindnesses are a continual reproach, a continual demand for pity, gratitude, and admiration.CS Lewis, From Surprised by Joy

In other words, quit complaining.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Francesca tells Sonny and Mike that Mike’s new medication is having a positive effect. Sonny tells Mike that doesn’t mean he won’t be seeing the doctor anymore. Mike says he can’t complain. Griff and Francesca treat him like a prince. He says friends help each other, and tells Francesca that he has a grandson around her age. She says she knows Michael, and he’s very lucky to have grandfather like him. Sonny tells Mike to let Francesca get back to work. Mike thinks they would hit off, and there’s no harm in trying. Sonny thinks he should ask Michael first. Mike says Michael will just give him the runaround, and asks if Carly will be there.

Julian asks Alexis if therapy means rehashing the gory details of their relationship. She says it does, and he asks, what could go wrong with that? She’d appreciate some cooperation, and he tells her that he didn’t say no, but it’s a lot to ask. She says after everything he put her through, he should be more accommodating. He’s concerned about the intimacy of the situation, and says he’d like to ask Kim. Alexis didn’t know they were at that point in the relationship.

At the hospital, Dr. Shaw is looking for some reports. Kiki says she can help, but he says he’ll stop by later. She tells Elizabeth that David warned her that other doctors might feel uncomfortable with her. Dr. Shaw isn’t the first one either. She was ignored when she spoke to a surgeon in the elevator. Elizabeth thinks David is the one who should be getting the cold shoulder. Kiki thinks there’s no way she’s the first person he’s done this to. Lulu comes in and Kiki says, speak of the devil. Lulu asks if they’re talking trash on her, and Elizabeth says, not her. Kiki asks if anyone has come forward.

At The Floating Rib, Anna finishes telling Finn a story about getting Robert to stand in for her at a concert. Finn says they’ve managed to spend the entire day hanging out. They kiss and Obrecht says, look at the lovebirds.

Valentin goes to Nina’s office. He tells the receptionist that he wants to surprise her, and will take full responsibility. She hopes Nina knows how lucky she is to have a husband like him. He says, probably not. He closes the door, and says he hopes he can remind her tonight.

At the cabin, Nina tells Peter to wake up, but he doesn’t.

I have a mini dog emergency, but alas, no time to work internet magic tonight, and miss a few minutes. Sorry. I’ve had to wear five extra hats this week.

Sonny suggests he and Mike go to Mike’s old neighborhood on Charles Street. They can see what’s cooking and bring back old memories.

Lulu tells Kiki that she’s checked the other hospitals where David worked, but no claims have been filed against him. The HR departments seemed caught off guard. Kiki asks where that leaves them, and Lulu says, waiting. Amy is willing to talk about the culture of sexism at GH, but has no specific experience with David. Kiki says if no one comes forward, the case has no chance. He gets to live his life and do this to more women.

Alexis tells Julian that she didn’t realize they were at the asking permission stage. He says things are good between them, and he doesn’t want to mess it up. He did Alexis wrong in many ways, and one was not communicating. He has the chance not to repeat the same mistake with Kim. He hopes she understands. He’s growing, and she needs to grow too. She tells him that if he decides to help, give Doc a call.

Kim asks Julian what that was all about; it sounds like couple’s therapy. He says it sounded that way to him too, but Alexis insists it’s about past relationships, and called it guest starring. He couldn’t give Alexis an answer until he ran it by her. Kim appreciates it, but he doesn’t have to get permission for this or anything else. It’s not the kind of relationship she’s after. Does he want to go? Julian says he has other things he’d rather do, like pay bills, do laundry, and darn his socks. Sifting through their old relationship doesn’t sound fun. Alexis’s goal might be closure, but he’s afraid of being trapped in some circle. Kim says it sounds like he’s made his decision, and he guesses he has. She has to get home, and tells him that he makes his own choices, and she’ll support whatever he decides.

Outside, Mike tells Sonny this is the best dive bar, but Sonny says it’s under new management, and hip now. They go in, and Sonny tells Julian to relax. They’re grabbing some coffee, on the house, and wants Julian to include the July payment in full.

Anna asks Obrecht what she did to upset her. Obrecht says she’s upsetting the patrons, who don’t appreciate her revolting spectacle. Anna says it must be hard, dealing with the loss of Nathan. Obrecht says not to dare patronizing her. Anna says she was trying to reach out. They’re kind of on the same side. Obrecht asks if she thinks they’re buddies because they both despise Faison. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, is foolish. There’s ample room for enemies in this world, and Anna is one of hers. She put a target on Nathan’s back, and her lies led to his death. Anna asks if Obrecht thinks her son would want bitterness and blame? Obrecht is sure he’s be first to tell her to forgive, and Anna suggests she try it – for him and herself. Obrecht calls her scarecrow, and says she may be right. They might both have something in common. They’ll never see their sons again.

Nina tells Peter no one is trying to kill him. Confess, and it will be over. He says she doesn’t really think Obrecht is sincere with that plan. Once he confesses, they’ll call the cops to collect him. He asks how the confession will be admissible when it was given under duress? Once they take him, they’ll know he was held captive. The only people facing charges will be her and Obrecht. Obrecht knows it, and she wants him to confess that Nathan’s death is all his fault. True or not, it doesn’t matter. Once he says the words, she’ll kill him.

On the phone, Valentin tells someone he’ll see them in a half hour. If they come in fifteen minutes, he’ll double their bonus. Finn walks in, and Valentin says his wife isn’t there. Finn says he’s looking for Valentin.

Julian serves Mike and Sonny their coffee anything else. Mike guesses there’s a good story between Sonny and Julian, but Sonny says it’s not worth talking about. He wants to talk about what they were discussing the other day. Mike asks for a reminder, and Sonny says when he helped him out in Croton.

Brad walks into Charlie’s and Julian asks if he’s there to give him another ultimatum. Brad wants to thank him for what he put together for him and Lucas; all the information meant a lot. They also appreciate Julian’s understanding. Julian says Lucas told him that he couldn’t afford one wrong step, and Julian didn’t want to risk it. He knows they’re not crazy about the birth mother’s agreement. Brad says she gets to know his GPA from college, but he doesn’t even know her name. If they follow rules, she’ll have no reason to change her mind. Julian flashes back to asking Kim about the birth mother’s records being on file, and Kim telling him that she’s still a patient until she gives birth. Julian asks Brad if he happens to know at what hospital the mother is giving birth.

Elizabeth tells Kiki that everyone will know she’s telling the truth. It’s been retweeted and shared more than anything else they’ve written. Kiki says she hasn’t read the comments, and Lulu tells her not to do that to herself. They’re sick trolls, shaming the victim. Kiki says they know who she is, and where she works, and think she should die. Francesca listens. Kiki feels helpless. Lulu says she has a ton of support, and someone else coming forward won’t happen overnight. Dr. Bensch’s days are numbered. Francesca’s head pops up. Elizabeth asks if Kiki is okay, and Kiki says work is keeping her sane. Francesca approaches Kiki. She says they don’t know each other well, but she saw the article. Most people would be too scared to come forward. For what it’s worth, Francesca admires her. Her courage means a lot.

Anna asks Obrecht what she means. Obrecht says Henrik fled the second he could. She doubts he’d risk a bullet to find his mom. She tells Anna to keep lying to herself. Her delusions will keep her occupied until Henrik faces retribution. She says not to forget they still have their own score to settle.

Valentin asks Finn to what he owes this unexpected pleasure? Finn wants to tell him to his face that he and Anna are together. Valentin says, good for them. He thought it was going to be touch and go until the end of time. Finn says he played God with a child’s life, and devastated lives in the process. If he gets involved in Anna’s life again, it will be his last move.

Kim asks Elizabeth if Linda Cartwright’s labs are back. We can probably assume that’s Lucas and Brad’s birth mother. Elizabeth says she’ll check, and Kim asks if she has a minute; it’s personal and embarrassing. Elizabeth says, no judgments. Kim asks how she and Franco deal with each other’s exes. Elizabeth says it’s been a mutual co-existence, except for Jason and Franco. She asks if Julian is having a hard time with Drew. Kim says they were scratchy in the past, but she’s the one having issues about Julian’s ex.

Brad tells Julian they don’t know where she’s from or where she’s giving birth. Julian says it must be stressful until the thirty-day mark. Brad says Alexis is handling the adoption, so she knows everything, but she’s bound by law to keep it confidential, and keep them in dark.

Alexis arrives at the hospital, and tells Lulu that it was a good article. The exposure is amazing. She asks if anyone has come forward, and Lulu says, not so far. Alexis says Kiki getting her name out there will make it easier for others. They can take him to court, but without a corroborating witness, there might be no way to win.

Mike tells Sonny that he doesn’t remember being in Croton. Sonny says Mike got him out of some trouble; a situation in a field outside of Croton. Mike says it doesn’t ring a bell. Sonny tells him not to worry about it. Mike looks at the old photos on the walls.

Valentin asks if Finn just threatened to kill him. Finn tells him to stay out of Anna’s life. Valentin knows he had fun playing Spy Vs Spy with Anna, but he’s not dealing with an amateur. Finn says he has access to things that make it seem like you’ve passed away peacefully. Valentin says it’s not easy to kill someone. He and Anna know. Why would he want to? Valentin is actually a fan. Finn makes Anna happy. Finn suggests he concentrate on his own marriage, or whatever’s left of it. He walks out.

Peter says Nina knows he’s right. She says he’s just trying to get in her head, and it’s not happening. He says they know how it ends; Obrecht has already been violent. Nina insists she’s not going to kill him. He says she’s disassociated from reality. She can’t get revenge on his father, and he’s the next best thing. She wants him to take the blame. Obrecht will get satisfaction in killing him, but what does Nina get? He tells her to get out of it. She still has family and a career. She has a life that still matters, and a future waiting. He tells her to please make it stop. Do it now, before she loses everything too.

Finn asks Anna how the talk with the German went. Anna says, Swiss, and he says, whatever. She says charming as ever. She can’t blame her for grieving, but something Obrecht said unsettled her. She doesn’t think she intended for that either. She said Anna wasn’t seeing her son again. It could have been an all-purpose wish, but she got the impression that Obrecht knows something she’s not telling.

Obrecht returns to the cabin. She didn’t expect Nina, and Nina says she’s making sure they’re still on the same page regarding the goal. Obrecht says a confession, what else? Nina says, besides the mishap with the bat, she doesn’t intend to hurt him, right? She tells Obrecht she won’t be an accomplice. Obrecht says Nina is unaccustomed to these situations, but she isn’t. Trust her. Unlike Henrik, she’ll only stab someone in the front, not in the back.

Julian tells Brad that it must be rough, having the information just out of reach. Brad says they’re taking it on faith. There’s no sense making waves. Julian says if there’s anything he can do to help, let him know. Brad says he’ll see him around. Julian thinks he will.

Kiki doesn’t understand how Alexis can say that. She’s the one who encouraged her to take it to court. Alexis says she still feels the same way, but it’s an uphill fight. Lulu asks if there isn’t a lesser burden of proof in civil court, but Alexis tells her it’s he said, she said. Unless his name is on public record, they can’t counter-sue. It’s only the truth if proven in court. Lulu says that’s the problem with harassment; it happens behind closed doors. Alexis says she wouldn’t be doing her job if she didn’t tell Kiki. She’s behind her 100%, but tells her to think it over. Kiki says it shouldn’t be so hard to do the right thing. Lulu says one thing is guaranteed. A lot of women will thank her for speaking up. Someone could still come forward before they get to court. Francesca says, someone is.

Julian gives Sonny his payment. Mike looks at a picture, and says he knows that guy. Sonny says it’s Charlie Delaney, he built this place. He says Mike lived across the street. Maybe he remembers him from when he was living there, but Mike says no. He hasn’t seen him since Sonny was around eighteen.

Obrecht tells Peter, alone at last. She opens a Styrofoam container. She says she adores barbeque. It’s a brisket sandwich with spicy sauce. She says he must be famished, and he tells her that he passed out earlier. She says he’s pathetic. The average person can go for a week without food. He was far from death’s door. She must say she’s enjoying it though. She bites into the sandwich.

Nina sees curtains in front of her office. She walks inside to find it decorated, and Valentin telling her, welcome back to Morocco.

Anna can’t believe Finn confronted Valentin. Finn says he had it coming, and she says, he’s lethal. She’s grown fond of Finn, and tells him to give Valentin a wide berth from now on. She just found him. She let him all the way into her life, and doesn’t want to lose him. Certainly not to Valentin. Finn tells her not to worry. He’s not going anywhere. They kiss.

Francesca says she didn’t mean to eavesdrop. They were looking for another woman harassed by David, and here she is. He did the same thing to her.

Kim doesn’t love the idea of Julian reliving his relationship with Alexis in therapy. Elizabeth says, why would she? No one is that progressive. Kim thought she was. Elizabeth says, surprise; she’s human. Kim says maybe she should have been honest about how she felt. She thinks it’s strange that Alexis wants him to go to her therapy session; it seems intrusive. Elizabeth says, and she doesn’t want to appear like the threatened, jealous girlfriend; it’s normal. Kim says it’s a good lesson on what not to do next time. She doesn’t think it’s worth dragging out, since he decided not to go.

Julian sees Alexis at the hospital. He says he was just on his way to see Doc. He’s made his decision. He’ll go to therapy with her.

Tomorrow, Julian calls it off, Nina says she had to take justice into her own hands, and Mike says he’s not an invalid.

Southern Charm

I hope Ashley thinks a ring is inside that box Thomas is going to give her, but it turns out to be a wallet.

Naomie goes to kickboxing class. Hopefully, it will get out some of her aggression. She calls Danni, telling her that Kathryn never showed, and isn’t picking up her calls. Danni hasn’t heard from her either. Naomie calls Shep. She’s worried that this is like the old Kathryn. Shep says the screen on Kathryn’s phone is severely cracked, and it might be an issue.

Shep orders lunch with blueberry beer, because it has anti-oxidants. He’s against oxidants. Austen joins him. Shep asks what the next step is with Austen’s beer, and how much cash he’ll need. We flash back to Austen’s parents expecting success. He tells Shep that he got into a tiff with Victoria. I was right. The hug was involved. And Austen was the one who gave himself away by telling Victoria about it. I didn’t see that coming. Shep says it’s like a romantic comedy. Austen says Victoria tossed a drink on him. He told her to get in an Uber and go home. It’s been radio silence since, and he blocked her. In his interview, Austen says she made it crystal clear they’re over, and he has no remorse. Shep says it would be crazy if before Christmas, everyone was single. Austen wants a stable relationship for Christmas, and Shep says he’s not going not get it.

Ashley visits Patricia. She feels lucky Patricia could squeeze her in, since her time is so valuable. I’d be willing to bet Patricia knows a brownnoser when she sees one too. Patricia notices Ashley is hoarse, and asks Michael for two medicinal drinks; a hot toddy for Ashley, and Patricia’s usual martini. Ashley tells Patricia that she and Thomas pumped the brake. It’s been a transition, and she knows Patricia heard about Hilton Head. She babbles about there being an issue with the children’s mother. The tension built, and she felt a shift in the relationship. She whines that Kathryn texted Thomas about not wanting her around the kids because she’s angry. Patricia wonders if Ashley’s immune system is run down, and asks if Thomas is still going out partying. Ashley says he’s out right now. He’s an older man who should get his sh*t together. Patricia tells her if there’s one thing she’s learned in her 105 years on this earth, is that men don’t change. In terms of managing Thomas – although feminists wouldn’t like it – Ashley should just sit and listen. In her interview, Patricia says, in the south, they don’t get involved with these issues. Like her mother said, keep quiet and think of England. She tells Ashley to let it be about him. Ashley says it always is, but Patricia says, if she’s secure, let it. She says Kathryn is always going to be the children’s mother, so she should concentrate on being the girlfriend. Is this the way she wants to live, and the man she wants to devote her life to?

Naomie brings Chelsea a load of juicing supplies. She tells Chelsea about no one hearing from Kathryn since Monday. It’s like in the old days when she used to drop off the face of the earth. She wonders if it has anything to do with Thomas and Ashley and the kids. In her interview, Naomie says if Kathryn messes up one time, she’s screwed, and Thomas will go to court. Danni tells Naomie about talking to Craig, who wouldn’t get a flu shot because he might walk backwards for the rest of his life. Naomie says he read an article about someone it happened to, and he wasn’t risking walking to see a baby. Danni asks if she should call Kathryn, but Naomie says she already asked Shep to call.

Cameran meets Shep and Whitney for lunch. She says she misses them the most, and it reminds me of The Wizard of Oz. In her interview, Cameran says she’s a prisoner to breastfeeding. She doesn’t eat a healthy diet, and thinks producing so much milk is crazy. She’s brought along some to-go milk, and pours both of them a shot. She says it’s like becoming blood brothers, but they’re milk brothers. Whitney spits it out. So much for etiquette. In her interview, Cameran says since she got pregnant, Whitney has had a strange fixation with lactation, and she couldn’t leave Shep out; he’s never turned down a shot. Shep says it’s good, and he likes it. Whitney thanks him for that.

Cameran asks if Thomas is still with Ashley. Whitney says he went shopping for a Craig-ass promise ring. Shep doesn’t think it will last. Thomas doesn’t want to deprive other women of him. Cameran suggests Shep go after Ashley, and he says, no. Cameran wonders if Craig has been laid since Naomie, and then wonders if he’d ever been laid before Naomie. She tells the guys she has to wait two more weeks before having sex. Whitney brings up the topic I can never get rid of, vaginal rejuvenation. Cameran says she took a look, and it looks the same.

Craig meets friend Warren from law school. They walked graduation together, although Craig didn’t get his diploma until a couple of years later. Warren says his practice is good, and asks if Craig is looking for a job. Craig says he wants to work for himself from home, and tells Warren that he’s a seamstress. Warren asks if he has a business plan, and if pillows are lucrative. Craig tells him about designing the pillow for Patricia, and Warren wants him to admit it’s a bit farcical. Craig shows him one of the designs, and Warren says it looks like clip art. Craig mumbles something about licensing, and Warren tells him it’s awful; Patricia won’t sell that. In his interview, Craig says there are a million pillows at Warren’s house, but his wife buys them. Warren isn’t his target audience. Warren jokes that Craig tried to off himself with a butter knife, and Craig says he couldn’t even do that right.

Thomas gets the kids ready for school. He knew intuitively that his life would center around kids, but envisioned it as the nuclear family, not being a single dad. He says co-parenting with Kathryn is good, the kids are happy, and they’re getting along. Kathryn has transformed from a carefree adult to a woman with a woman’s heart. We see clips of them with the kids. He says if she continues on this trajectory (yes, he put it that way), she will be mother of the year in five. Ashley was upset because there’s been no proposal. He knows she doesn’t want to waste her time, but he has a lot to lose. He needs to focus on his kids and getting along with their mother.

Danni hopes she’s not overreacting, but it’s like Kathryn fell off the face of the earth. She’s going to Kathryn’s apartment with Naomie. She hasn’t responded to their texts or calls, and missed another appointment without calling. Danni says Thomas having a girlfriend hasn’t been good, but Naomie says it’s who the girlfriend is. Danni says dealing with Ashley has sucked the life out of Kathryn; it sucks the life out of her. She wishes she could pick locks. Naomie asks if that isn’t illegal, and Danni says no, because they’re her friends. Ha-ha! Okay.

They knock on Kathryn’s door, but there’s no answer. Naomie uses a bobby pin on the keyhole. Danni says if Naomie makes it happen, she’ll be impressed, but the pin doesn’t fit. Naomie thinks they should find the property manager. Danni asks, what if they call the police? Naomie says the manager should let them in if they explain. What world do they live in?

The property manager tells them that Kathryn isn’t dead; she’s in there. They thank her for checking. Danni is pissed. They knock again, and Naomie asks Kathryn to open the door. Naomie wonders what’s wrong with her, and thinks it’s not good at all.

Craig arranges some flowers. Barely. It’s more like he makes a mess. Patricia calls, and he tells her that he’s trying to be a cultured adult. She asks if can come over in an hour, and finalize the design; they’re running out of time on her end. He thinks maybe he’ll bring the flowers. He screws around with the designs –what we call clip art – on his laptop.

Patricia gives the sage observation that, nothing is worse than bad potpourri. I can probably think of a lot of worse things, but that is pretty bad. She’s waiting for Craig; she called hours ago. It’s six pm, and he’s still home. He says, it is what it is. He didn’t even call her??? He walks out the door with the flowers and the laptop.

Michael suggests Craig is doing his hair again. He finally arrives, with one of the flowers getting broken in transport. I love Patricia’s cardigan. It’s very long, and looks almost like silver chainmail. She tells Craig they’re in a time crunch. He says something about fabrics, and she says, design is the key. He shows her a picture of two cartoon dogs under palm trees. She asks how he did the dogs, and he says he found a stencil online, but he did the colors. She explains that he can’t get it off the internet; it has to be original. He tries to backtrack, saying that he needed something to feed off of. She says the problem is timing; she needs the design right now. He claims he wasn’t aware of that, but we see a clip where she gives him a two-week time frame. Patricia says it’s been two months. She loves him, and has given him more latitude than she would ordinarily, but they need to table it; it’s business. He thinks maybe he should have spent more time on this. He thanks her, saying it didn’t work out this time, but who knows what’s down the road. I can guarantee it’s not Patricia hiring him for anything. In his interview, he says he only needed one more night, and he could have made it perfect. No. A thousand more nights wouldn’t have helped. As he gets in his car, he says, that was bullcrap.

Chelsea brings a ton of food to Naomie’s, who is having a manicurist and masseuse come over. Naomie tells her about going to Kathryn’s with Danni, and that they had a wellness check done. All they could say was that she was alive, but no details. Naomie feels bad for her. The manicurist and masseuse arrive, behind them. She still hasn’t heard from Kathryn. Cameran walks in, saying she’s free. No one can believe she’s just had a baby, and Naomie touches her boobs. Chelsea has a business opportunity, and tells her about people who buy breast milk. They can get rich. Cameran is asked what the highs and lows are about being a mother. She says the low is that her life was altered. She was forced to be unselfish. The high is that she has a baby that’s part of both she and her husband, and it’s unconditional love. In her interview, Cameran says Palmer smiling for the first time made her cry. Her heart isn’t cold and dead after all. Naomie gives Cameran a collage she made from the ultrasound. Cameran has to jet. She’s still learning to balance living her life and being a mother. It’s no longer about her, and was a lesson she needed to learn. Naomie gets a massage. She says if she had her blanket and cat, she’d be in heaven. I see her future, and it involves a blanket and several cats.

Shep calls Chelsea. He knows they’re worried about Kathryn, and tells her that Thomas said she picked up the kids. Thomas doesn’t know she’s been keeping to herself, and Shep doesn’t want him to know. Chelsea says, and they don’t want Ashley to know.

Thomas and Ashley go out to dinner. The wine is called wolf-something, and Thomas says he was called wolf when he was single. Ashley says he might be single again. She loves him, but thinks they hit a rough patch. It’s been volatile since she got back. She tells him that she’s starting to access everything, and there are red flags. When the wine is served, Ashley makes a face, and says it tastes interesting. Thomas gives her the box. She calls him babe, and I choke. It’s a bracelet, and you can tell she’s disappointed. Thank you, God. The food comes, and Ashley thanks him. He tells her a healthy relationship is interdependent, but not co=dependent. He thinks she’s kind of needy, and if that’s what he wanted, would she be attracted to someone like that? She needs to be involved in something outside of him. She asks if he means like a job. God forbid. He says she’s looking to him to be her tower of strength, but she has to find it inside herself. Ashley says they’ve never had a chance, since she stopped listening after she realized she might have to go back to work.

Kathryn stops by Danni’s place. Her dog is wearing the cone of shame. Kathryn says she’s alive and well. Danni says, don’t do this to her again, and asks where she’s been. Why wasn’t she responding? Kathryn almost gave her a heart aneurysm. Kathryn says everything going on has been a lot, and she took a mental break. She turned off the phone, and locked herself in her apartment. Danni says they were concerned about her well-being. Kathryn says it wasn’t intentional; she didn’t even see they’d called. Danni says she didn’t know if Kathryn was alive, and it scared her. Kathryn explains that she’s been on meds for depression. She was happy and adjusting to sober living, and thought didn’t need them. She stopped taking them, and didn’t realize how it would affect her. It increased her anxiety and emotional response, and snowballed. She says she’s kind of ashamed, and Danni tells her not to feel like she can’t come to her. Kathryn knew she wouldn’t judge. It was a matter of confronting it; saying it out loud. In her interview, Kathryn says when she got the diagnosis of anxiety and depression, she was relieved. She knew why she was making irresponsible choices. Now she takes antidepressants. She tells Danni that for a long time she thought she had nothing to bring to a friendship except being a burden. Danni says that’s not true, and she gets something out of their friendship. She starts to cry, saying she was scared. She loves Kathryn. Kathryn says she loves Danni too, and they hug. All has been forgiven.

Next time, Shep tries to cook, Thomas talks to Patricia about Ashley, Chelsea asks Austen to go to Patricia’s Winter Wonderland party, and there’s a polo match.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Curtis comes out from the secret passage at Wyndemere. He tells Sam that she was right; it’s a damn maze. He didn’t find anything, and wants to come back check the stables. Sam says Peter isn’t there, but she found something that might put them on the right track. She shows him an invoice, and says Valentin has a charter service for a plane. She can’t think of a better way for Peter to get out.

Nina tells Valentin that she’s heard you shouldn’t make important life changes if you’re under stress, but if they stay married, she’ll be under stress for the rest of her life. She wants a divorce. Valentin says he’d give her the world, but not that. She asks what he means, and he says he’s not giving up without a fight.

Doc says Alexis must have opened the envelope, and asks if it held the answers to what she’s looking for. She says, not exactly. It was the watch Mikkos gave to her mother. Doc can’t imagine that was helpful. He asks what it told her, and she says, a lot. Just not the way she was expecting.

Elizabeth asks Sarah who told her that she was getting married. She says, he’s pretty amazing all right. Always full of surprises.

David finds Kiki in the locker room. He says he just heard about the article in the paper. It’s disturbing that she should be going through these things at all, not to mention within the walls of the hospital. He tells her that he’s available if she needs someone to talk to. She says she’s good. She starts to leave, but he blocks her. She tells him to get out of her way. He says not until they clear something up.

Mary Pat says GH is a fine institution, and asks Jason why he wants to leave to join the team at Ferncliff. He says he heard there were more available hours, so he can work more shifts and make more money. She appreciates his honesty, and says they do have problem keeping custodians. He’ll be mixing with patients who are seriously disturbed. She asks if that’s a problem, and he says, no. She tells him, working with the mentally ill, slash criminally insane, isn’t for everyone. He says, a mess is a mess, no matter where it is, and it’s his job to clean it up.

Carly opens her eyes to see Rupert watching her.

Nina says Valentin is a piece of work. He says she loves that about him. He refuses to accept it’s the end of the road, and she says he should have thought about that before lying for the ten thousandth time. She’s tired, and it should be easier. He says he made a terrible mistake; he doesn’t disagree with that, but he doesn’t agree to a divorce. She says it’s a no-fault state. He says it’s only no-fault if neither one contests it. She says she’ll file on grounds then. He says he hasn’t been abusive, but she disagrees. He’s lied to her. He betrayed his wife’s trust. It’s cruel, and nothing could hurt worse.

Alexis tells Doc that Valentin promised clarification on what kind of man her father was, and gave her the watch. Doc asks what his intent was. She says when she went to Wyndemere, he was listening to a recording of her mother singing. Doc asks if she thinks he was goading her to provoke a reaction, but she has no idea why he does what he does. He even gave her a picture of her mother. She doesn’t trust him, but to have those things… She has nothing of her mother’s, and it was nice to hear her voice. The picture is of an unguarded moment, and she looked like she was just living her life. She has few memories of her mother doing that. Doc asks about the watch, and Alexis says it made her feel uneasy, but she doesn’t know why. She stared at it for thirty minutes, and had a realization. She has so few memories of her mother, yet her mother’s choices changed her life in ways she never even considered.

David tells Kiki that there are rumors going around, and some people assume he’s the doctor in question. It would benefit both of them if she cleared up that misunderstanding. She tells him to cut the crap. It is about him, and she’s the one who filed the complaint. It’s gone on long enough. He tells her the suggestion of misconduct could cost a man his career; he could lose his job over mixed signals. Kiki says she calls it harassment. Someone has to stop him or the cycle will never end. He says, and she’s that someone? She tells him that he’s right again. She’s also exploring legal action. The rumors are the least of his problems.

Franco says he was going to tell Elizabeth that he called her sister. Elizabeth says she’s not upset, but it’s pointless to reach out. Sarah is too busy to fly out, which is what she expected. He asks if she’s disappointed, and she says she’s used to it. He asks why she didn’t tell her sister that she was getting married, and she says she didn’t not tell her. It wasn’t intentional; they just haven’t spoke for a while. He says she needs to tell him what’s going on.

Mary Pat asks Jason if he has any questions. He doesn’t think so. She suggests she give him the tour, so he can see what Ferncliff is all about.

Carly slips into sleep. Rupert says, see you around, Caroline. When he’s gone, she whispers that her name is Carly.

Mary Pat tells Jason that this is the wing for particularly violent offenders. She asks if cleaning it is a problem, and he says he’d like to see it first. She likes his attitude. She tells him most of the patients there are in solitary. He asks if that’s on the doctor’s recommendation, but she says, mostly hers.

Sam tells Curtis that it must have been done at the last minute; there’s no flight plan. He says, even if Peter was on the plane, they can’t tell where he was headed. Sam thinks knows someone who can help. She calls the charter service, and says she’s Nina. She has some questions about her husband’s account.

Nina tells Valentin that she doesn’t blame him for her brother’s death; she blames him for lying. One of the reasons she fell in love with him, was because he trusted her instincts, and believed in her when no one else did. She told him something was off with Peter, and he was too close to Maxie. He made her doubt herself. He says he didn’t want her to see the worst thing he’d done; it crushes him to disappoint her. He insists the marriage isn’t over. She says she’s not giving second chances (even though this would be like, the fourth or fifth). If he won’t agree to the divorce, she’s prepared to take action. He suggests they make a deal. He’ll have thirty days to prove himself to her. If he’s successful, there will be no divorce. If he fails, he’ll sign whatever she wants.

Alexis tells Doc that her mother knew exactly who Mikkos was. He was dangerous, and married to someone dangerous, yet she chose to stay there. Doc says maybe she had no other options, but Alexis says she did. She was on the verge of a successful career. Doc says maybe she was in love. Alexis says he killed her mother, and almost killed her. Doc asks if she sees a parallel, and she says, a glaring neon one. She seeks out bad men, and can’t stay away. She is her mother. She wonders what’s wrong with her; if it’s in her DNA. Is she hard-wired for it, or did she just see the example of her parents? Doc says he’s ready to explore it if she is.

David tells Kiki her case will never make it to court. She says, wait and see, and he asks, what grounds? She says a revolting one. He says he helped her get into med school. She brings up his saying he’d give her a better evaluation if she had sex with him. He says it was a joke, and she says what about the massage and the kiss. He says, big deal; he got the wrong message. This is the real world. Things happen when people work closely together; grow up. She says it was completely inappropriate. If he thinks otherwise, he’s delusional. He tells her to file her ridiculous suit. He can’t wait to see how she handles the fallout. How does she think her peers will feel when she goes public? Any male doctors will be uncomfortable sticking their neck out for her, or even bringing her coffee. They’ll be living in constant fear that their actions will be misconstrued. If she goes ahead with it, she’ll be killing her career before it starts. Griff comes out of nowhere, and grabs David, saying, that is enough.

Elizabeth doesn’t know how to explain it to Franco. It’s just not where they are. Her family wouldn’t show up whether she was getting married or being inducted into the nurse’s hall of fame. He asks if it doesn’t bother her. She says disappointment turned into resignation, and she has zero expectations. He says, this time might be different. She doesn’t think so, and asks him to let it go.

David calls Griff the resident white knight. Kiki tells Griff to let him go. David sees she’s okay with the chivalry of some doctors; she gets to pick and choose. Hmm… maybe he should grow up. She says what he did wasn’t chivalrous, and she’s going to take him down. He says she’ll be laughed out of court. She says she has options, unlike him, and he says, we’ll see.

Nina tells Valentin that she already hired an attorney. He says he can fight it for weeks or years; it will get expensive. She doesn’t care, and he says he’s offering her a contract. At the end of thirty days, she can either drop him for good or spend the rest of her life with him. He writes something on a napkin and gives it to her. She says, this is a contract? and he says his signature is on it. That’s right. People’s Court Judge Marilyn Milian says it doesn’t matter – get it in writing, even if it’s on a piece of toilet paper with a crayon. Valentin warns her that he’s going to pull out all the stops to remind her how rare and precious their love is. She tells him not to get his hopes up.

On the phone, Sam says they’ve been extremely helpful. She tells Curtis that by helpful, she means not at all. Nina isn’t an authorized user. They confirmed the flight was scheduled, but not the destination. Curtis’s phone dings. He says Nina can’t stall any longer; they have to go. Sam says, no way. They’re not going anywhere.

Alexis tells Doc that all this time, she’s been focusing on the dysfunctional family dynamic. Her mother sacrificed her life for a sociopath who was married to a sociopath. Doc says that’s one aspect, but they also tried to out evil each other. She says while that’s not something she pursued, she’s following in her mother’s footsteps with one hideous relationship after the other. She tried to break the cycle, and dived into a relationship with Finn as a solution. She needs to try and figure out why she’s still attracted to the wrong men. Doc says it’s definitely a layer, and Alexis says, there are other layers? She wonders if, since she can recognize the patter, she can break it, and he wishes it were that easy. She asks if they just keep talking until she’s attracted to normal men or dies alone. He says they’ll work until she’s able to confront the person or persons who are at the root. She says her parents are dead. There’s no one left to share cathartic moments. Doc says, not necessarily.

Mary Pat tells Jason none of the patients are there because they’re nice people. He says it’s not his place to judge one way or the other. She points to Carly’s room, and says, this one pushed a young pregnant woman down a flight of stairs. He asks how long she’ll be there. Carly sees Jason through the window, and says, thank God. Mary Pat says until she’s deemed a sane, functional member of society – whenever that is. Carly and Jason lock eyes. Carly says, you’re here. Mary Pat sees she’s awake, and tells Rupert that she needs a higher dose. She introduces him to “Jesse,” and he tells Jason to stick to mopping floors, and leave the patients to the professionals. Mary Pat says, that’s a good point. If a situation arises, he is to notify the staff immediately. She says they’ll finish in the day room.

Franco tells Elizabeth that he’s sorry if he overstepped a boundary. She thinks it’s sweet, but says not to feel badly for her. He thinks she’s incredible, and doesn’t understand why they’re not a part of her and her children’s lives. She says there’s no room. Their work is their life. They’re not malicious; it’s just them. The bright side is, even though they say you can’t pick your family, she kind of got to. She has amazing friends, the boys, and him; they’re the only family she needs. She’s pretty lucky. He says, she is, but if her parents magically showed up, wouldn’t it make her happy? She says, in a Cinderella kind of way, but life isn’t a fairy tale, and she’s okay with that.

Kiki tells Griff that he shouldn’t have done that. Griff wasn’t going to let David threaten her, but Kiki says he could be charged with assault. Griff doesn’t care, and says it was David in the article, wasn’t it? He knew something was going on. With the weirdness at the Nurses’ Ball, he should have seen what was right in front of him. Griff says, he didn’t…? and Kiki says, no. It was just toxic for a long time, and last week, he actually propositioned her, using her evaluation as leverage. Griff says, it’s disgusting, and wishes she’d come to him. She says after what happened between them, he’s the last place she could go for help.

Doc tells Alexis it might be helpful to have one of the men she dated join them. Not to unload how hurt she is, but they could see how the relationship evolved. Why it was good, and when, and when it went bad, how it got there. She’d be surprised how different their takes might be. She says Jerry Jax is an international fugitive, and not available; Ric hates her, and won’t help; and Sonny is a little busy. That leaves Julian. Doc says, it does, and time’s up. He tells her there’s no need to make a move yet, but think about it. She says she will.

Valentin comes home. He flashes back to Nina asking for a divorce. As he pours a drink, he says, you two are not nearly as stealthy as you think. Sam and Curtis come out, and Sam says they weren’t trying to hide. Curtis says they have some questions about Peter.

Nina looks at Valentin’s contract. Her phone dings. It’s Charlotte, asking when she’s coming home. She misses Nina.

Valentin asks if they want a drink, but they pass. Sam asks where Peter is, and Valentin says he’s not the one who put the cameras on loop or distracted the guard. Curtis says he must have provided shelter, and Valentin says he searched the property; any sign? He didn’t think so. Sam says he chartered a plane the same night he was found in Peter’s cell. Curtis asks if he can see why they think he’s holding back, and Valentin says, absolutely, and he is.

Alexis packs a box for charity. Is this another Maxie move? She looks at the picture of her mother.

Mary Pat tells Jason, if all goes well with his references, he can start later today; they’re short-staffed. He says it works for him. Carly’s door opens, and she says, you’re here; I knew you’d come, but it’s Doc.

Jason asks where he’d start, and Mary Pat says the public areas, until he gets acclimated. She thinks he’s a good fit, and he agrees. Doc asks Carly if she was expecting someone. She says she thought she saw something, but doesn’t know if it was real. He says, like with Morgan, and asks if she’s all right. He wonders how many meds they’re giving her. She asks if he’s actually there. He says he is, he’s real, and he’s going to do everything he can to help her.

Elizabeth suggests she and Franco talk about something happy. She’s super excited about getting married. Other than having the kids, it will be the most important moment of her life. The ER calls, and she has to go. Franco tells her to go and save lives. She tells him to wait up for her. When she’s gone, Franco calls Sarah, and wonders if she can put him in touch with her parents.

Kiki tells Griff, for her mom’s sake, they need to stay as far away from each other as possible. She knew things would get messy after they slept together. He says he never wanted her to think she can’t lean on him; she can’t face it alone. She says she has Elizabeth and Lulu, and Alexis agreed to represent her. She thanks him anyway, saying he’s a good friend. He says it feels wrong to do nothing. She says Monica tried, and it didn’t work. He says, so that’s it? She doesn’t need or want help? She says, not from him.

David slinks around the hospital. He looks at a picture of Kiki hugging Griff on his phone, and smiles. The only problem I have with this is, Griff is also her mother’s boyfriend. It wouldn’t be all that inappropriate.

Nina texts Charlotte that she misses her, and will see her soon. She flashes back to Valentin saying they did everything in reverse, and giving her a ring.

Valentin says, during the altercation, Peter took his phone. Peter must have pretended to be him, and contacted the pilot. He’s as shocked as anyone. The jet was fueled and ready to go. Curtis asks why he didn’t call the police, and Valentin says it never left the ground. He got stuck with the cancelation fee, and Peter must have found another way to get out of town. Curtis asks if that’s his story, and Valentin says it’s the truth. Curtis and Sam leave. Outside, Curtis says, dude is lying through teeth. Sam says he’s helping Peter. Curtis wonders if he never took off, how did he get away? There were check points everywhere. Sam says, unless he never left town. Peter is still in Port Charles.

Alexis listens to the recording of her mother, and looks at the watch on her wrist.

Tomorrow, Kim tells Julian that he’s stuck with her, Sonny asks Mike if he talked to someone about Skully, and Carly asks Doc to help her get out.

Southern Charm

Is Ashley still on the show?

Craig meets Austen, who tells him his hand is gnarly. Craig severed two tendons in his pinky. Now he’s wearing an archaic device for two weeks. They’re headed to pick up Austen’s first batch of beer. He wants to have a tasting party on Saturday. He’s inviting all of their friends, including Chelsea. Craig asks if she and Victoria have been in the same place since he started dating Victoria. He says they’re not speaking. Victoria thought Chelsea was inappropriate. In his interview, Austen says Victoria lets her emotions get the best of her more often than not, and it’s frustrating to deal with. Craig says, girls are crazy.

Naomie goes to the beach with Chelsea and her dog, bringing her best friend’s dog along. Chelsea loves that Naomie posted pictures of Thomas and Kathryn at Saint’s birthday party. Naomie says she knows Ashley looks at her stories, and she’s that petty. Chelsea hopes they don’t have to deal with her much longer. Naomie says she claims she’s not going anywhere. She asks how it’s going with Austen. Chelsea says if he’s happy, that’s awesome, but she can’t hang out with him like they used to; it’s not comfortable for her. Naomie says that’s normal and understandable. In her interview, Naomie thinks Chelsea still has feelings for Austen. She asks what it would take for Chelsea to be comfortable, and Chelsea says, dating someone super-hot.

Austen and Craig get to the brewery. Everything went off without a hitch. Austen is excited; it’s the moment of truth. He sniffs the beer like it’s a fine wine, and says he smells the grapefruit. It’s definitely what he wanted; not too sweet, dry, or weak at the end. Craig thinks it’s more lemon than grapefruit, and kind of woody. In his interview, Craig says he’s still a college beer guy, who drinks Bud Light. Really? That’s better than Coors Light, but still… He asks if Austen is happy, and he is. Everything has worked out with the distributor, and it will be in by Friday.

Cameran is exhausted. Baby stuff is everywhere. Her mother comes over, and Cameran says she just took her first shower in two weeks. Her armpits were on the verge of looking like a man’s. Her mother brought some vintage baby linens, but Cameran says, to be honest, she’ll never use them. Maybe when she has a second kid. She says, psyche! Nothing is coming out of there ever again. She tells her mom that she was sobbing uncontrollably at two am, asking Jason, what have we done? They had a great life; why did they ruin it? She can’t sleep when the baby does, since she wakes at the slightest sound. Her mom marvels at maternal instinct. Cameran says she saw a lactation consultant, and has an oversupply of milk. She can’t go out, and it’s like Groundhog Day. Her mom says it’s only a short time. Cameran knows it’s fleeting, and Palmer will be an a-hole teenager one day. Her mom says if Palmer gets Jason’s personality, she’ll be great to live with. If she gets Cameran’s, payback is hell.

Craig meets Kathryn for coffee. She says he’s like Edward Scissorhands. She’s working, and enjoying it. We see a clip of her styling someone. Craig can tell she’s genuinely happy. She says Thomas told her that her energy field is amazing. She tells him about Thomas texting her lines from the poem If by Rudyard Kipling.  If you can keep your head when all about you, are losing theirs and blaming it on you… Kathryn calls it a badass poem. Craig thinks Thomas is losing his mind. If Ashley was going to get a job, she’s been there long enough to have done it already. Kathryn says she thought it was a one way free ticket to spend someone else’s money. Thomas is usually frugal as hell, and is probably using it to keep her at bey. In her interview, Kathryn says Thomas is good at his game, and Ashley thinks he’ll take care of everything. So did she. We flash way back to Thomas telling Kathryn that everything he has is behind her. She says, he doesn’t keep a single promise – good luck. He’s not going from being frugal to spending tons of money. She tells Craig that Thomas isn’t consistent. Craig doesn’t think Ashley will be cool with him spending money, then suddenly cutting it off. Kathryn says she’s all over the place, and Craig says she’s not very stable.

In his interview, Thomas says Ashley is still in California. When she left, they weren’t in a good place. He does find fault with her, and thinks she’s too controlling, but he’s not the easiest guy to be with, and he wants a partner in the business of life. Whitney meets him at the jewelry store. Thomas needs another family crest ring, since he lost his. Oops. Whitney shows off his ring, which was crafted by the Queen of England’s jeweler. Thomas is thinking of getting himself and Ashley matching rings. Whitney asks if it would be a promise ring, and I wonder how old we are. He’d thought Thomas sent her packing; what is he doing? In his interview, Whitney says Thomas doesn’t make sense. He’s hot one minute, and cold the next. A squad of analysts couldn’t figure it out. Thomas says Ashley was a hit at his stepmom’s birthday, and his sister loves her. In his interview, Thomas says it’s important for his family to approve. He tends to get caught in the emotion, and makes bad decisions. Whitney tells him that a signet ring will signify a future, but Thomas doesn’t want to send false signals. Whitney asks if he wants to marry her, but he’s not sure. Whitney tells him not to waste his or Ashley’s time, but he says he’s not making a decision right now. He wants to think it through.

Craig goes to his favorite sewing store, and tells manager Kathy that he’s presenting a sample design for a pillow he’s been commissioned to make. He shows her several designs on her phone, and she gives him her opinion. In his interview, he says he’s known Kathy a while, and when he can’t make a decision, whatever she says, goes. Kathy tells him that she’d buy the design with two dogs under palm trees, and shows him some fabric, while making suggestions. In his interview, he says it feels like success is going to happen for the first time ever.

Shep goes to the bowling alley. In his interview, he says he’s allowed to use a knee brace for certain activities, but the doctor didn’t specify bowling. He would probably be admonished. Kathryn joins him. He says he’s not very good, but after four beers and one shot of whiskey, he’s the best bowler ever. He says Chelsea is supposed to find a cute physical therapist for him. When someone nurses you back to health, you fall in love with them. Actually, I fall in love with the first thing I’m able to eat after I feel good again. Kathryn remembers bringing the soup to Shep. She gets a gutter ball. In her interview, she says, thinking back on their time together, maybe they cut the cord too quickly. They had a lot of fun. She says after Kensie was born, they hooked up a few times, but it never went anywhere. The sex was good sex, he’s cute and fun. Shep says he’ll let her win, but she says she can win on her own. She tells him that she had a dream about him. He was in a big house with a bunch of women, who were fighting for him. She fell asleep for two days, and when she woke up, he was outside her door, saying he was in love with her. In his interview, Shep says he does love Kathryn. That’s not a lie.

Austen’s friend Alexandra visits for the beer tasting. Austen says they met in college, and she’s his best female friend. He calls her with girl drama. She knows everything that happens, and they’re open and honest with each other. She asks if she’s meeting Victoria and the infamous Chelsea. She thinks Austen is smitten with her; he said he was in love the next morning. Austen insists he didn’t, but then says he probably did. He tells her about Victoria’s problem with Chelsea. He wants to be respectful, but also be friendly with who he wants to be. He’s nervous, but says they’re grownups. Today his girlfriend is his beer. Yep. That sounds really grown up.

Thomas encourages Ashley to get ready faster, and she mumbles her discontent with him from the bathroom. He was hoping she’d return from California refreshed, but he’s not sure things improved. They might have regressed.

Rob from House of Brews is working the beer party. Austen is stoked, and says he’s in his hoppy [sic] place. He’s giving out comment cards, and will maybe take them into consideration, or throw them out. He’s nervous, because everyone is coming there for him; his family and friends, his ex and his current. He has a lot stressing him out, and he’s trying to keep it together. There’s also a wall done with chalkboard paint, set up for beer name suggestions.

Chelsea’s friend, Addie, helps her pick an outfit. She wants to look like a badass. In her interview, Chelsea says she didn’t think she’d be nervous, but now that she’s getting ready, she has butterflies. She’s proud of Austen. She tells Addie he talked a lot, and there was no action, but now it’s a tangible thing. Addie says Victoria is going to be there, and Chelsea says she hasn’t seen her. Addie says she asks about Chelsea all the time, and she thinks Victoria wants Chelsea’s approval. Chelsea thinks she’ll be fine, but doesn’t know. Seeing them together could hurt her heart. Addie says she could be cool, and tell him that his beer sucks. Chelsea asks if Victoria is hotter than her, then tells Addie not to answer.

Austen’s family arrives. They try the beer, and they all like it. His parents are anxious to see what everyone thinks. Naomie pronounces it, so good. JD (bleh) joins the crowd, followed by Chelsea. Good thing Victoria isn’t there for the hug. It’s a good one; he lifts her off the ground. Thomas and Ashley show up next. Thomas says it tastes like beer. Chelsea expected something more Austen-y. Kathryn congratulates him, and Thomas tells Craig that Kathryn is taller. Ashley tells him, don’t stare, and he says, why not? Here comes Victoria. She barely acknowledges Chelsea, who figured it would go like that. Austen has a less enthusiastic hug for her.

Craig asks Ashley if she’s spoken to Kathryn, and Ashley says, Kathryn who? because she’s just that immature. Thomas goes over to talk to her, and gives her a forehead kiss. Ashley tells Craig that they’ve been struggling since she got back. She feels like she’s self-destructive in some ways. Everyone rates, and tries to name the beer. Whitney arrives, and does a spit-take with the beer to be funny. Chelsea tells Craig about Cameran coming to her salon with Palmer. Shep tells everyone that Kathryn is the best bowler ever. She bowled two strikes and then gutter balls. She thinks Thomas is being weird. Shep likes his sweater, but points out he’s getting a gut. Craig wishes Ashley a belated happy birthday, and she says she’s thirty-three; too old for Thomas now. You could have fooled me. I thought she was in middle school. Shep tells Kathryn to consider it a good thing that Ashley isn’t talking to her.

Austen thanks everyone for supporting him, and says, cheers ya’ll! Thomas tells Whitney that he and Ashley were kind of arguing, and that she’s trying to control him. Whitney asks if he’s still getting the rings, but Thomas doesn’t know. JD shakes his head. Austen’s mom is proud of him; he exceeded expectations. He says his family’s approval is everything. It’s a major success, and he wants to cry. Victoria wonders if trepidation is a word. I heave a sigh. In her interview, Chelsea isn’t liking the bad energy. She doesn’t know what to expect with Victoria. She tells Victoria if they’re happy, she couldn’t be happier. And if Victoria feels like she if feel crossed boundaries, talk to her. Victoria says she saw Chelsea’s lips on Austen’s arm in the video, and it was like a punch in the stomach. Chelsea says it was freezing, and she was blocking the wind. She wonders if her and Austen’s friendship is too close for Victoria to be comfortable with. Victoria says Austen told her it was cold too, but it was the body language. Chelsea says she didn’t think it was anything sexual, like cuddling. Victoria agrees no boundaries were crossed.

Austen talks to Alexandra about Chelsea and Victoria.  Austen says there’s passion with Victoria, but Chelsea means a lot to him. Alexandra calls bullsh*t. She doesn’t think Victoria is the one.

Next time, Cameran is free, Naomie and Chelsea are concerned about Kathryn, and Thomas gives Ashley a gift.

🍹 🍇 I can’t wait for the Shahs of Sunset: How They Got Here on Monday, June 18th at 9 pm. I love the Shahs! There will also be a Shah marathon most of the day. Sadly, MJ’s father, Shams, has passed away since last season. I’m glad she has Tommy by her side. He seems like a stand-up guy, and the only one who can keep MJ from getting in her own way.

💐 Southern Charm Savannah will be premiering its second season Monday, July 16th at 10 pm. Here’s a first look:
