What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Winston tells Sonny that Olivia-J was supposed to meet him, but never showed up. Sonny says Winston had better figure it out, or he’ll have to pull the trigger. All Winston knows is that she said she had to right one last wrong.

Ava is brought to the station for a statement. Dante asks what she did now.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Dillon is engrossed in watching something on his laptop and eating popcorn. Kiki comes in and startles him. She says she never pegged him as the Gilmore Girls type. He says it’s for Crimson, and since their plans were canceled, he thought he’d do research. She says he looked really productive. She tells him that she needed some time to think, and he asks if they’re over before they started. Wow. He read a lot into that.

Sonny says Winston works for the woman who killed his son. He says Winston is as guilty as she is, and it’s going to get ugly if he doesn’t tell Sonny what he needs to know. Winston says he can’t. Sonny asks how important his fingers and kneecaps are, and Winston says he can’t tell him because he doesn’t know.

Olivia-J begs for her life, and Carly says she’s taking full advantage of this opportunity. Olivia says she’s unarmed, and asks Carly where her humanity is.

Kiki says Dillon doesn’t honestly think they’re done? She kisses him, and he asks what she wants to talk about if not their relationship. She says her mother; she’s home. Dillon asks if she’s out on bail, but Kiki says she had nothing to do with Morgan’s death. That’s where the good news ends though. Her Aunt Olivia-J, who is supposed to be dead, is the one who planted the bombs – both the one that killed Morgan and the one at the hospital. Since he’s been busy binge-watching, Dillon is surprised to hear about the GH. Kiki tells him get more popcorn; she has a story to tell him.

Ava tells Dante about Olivia-J threatening her and forcing her to contact Julian. She says Julian wouldn’t tell her what Olivia said. Dante asks why she didn’t call the police, and she asks what good it would have done; there was already an APB out. Dante thinks she’s somewhere close, hunkered down, and Ava says if she knew, she would tell them. She’s afraid for Julian. Olivia is stark raving mad and hates him, and she thinks Olivia is planning to kill him. Alexis comes into the station, and says he might already be dead.

Sonny tells Winston to start with what he knows. Olivia had avenged Duke’s death and took care of her grudge. Sonny asks where she is, and if he has to, to guess. Sonny says he picked the wrong person to work for, and Winston says he didn’t know how crazy she was. Sonny says his son is buried, and she’s supposed to be waiting for justice.

Olivia-J tells Carly to call the police, but please don’t kill her. Carly asks where Olivia’s humanity was the night she blew Morgan up. Where was her heart and soul? Did she ever think about the victim and his family? Olivia says of course, and Carly calls her a liar. Olivia apologizes again, and says she can’t imagine, since she never had the opportunity to be a mother. Carly asks if she’s supposed to feel sorry for Olivia’s barren womb. Olivia says she’s not asking for sympathy or forgiveness; she’s just asking for her life. She asks if prison isn’t supposed to be worse, and says just have them lock her up and let that be her victory. I swear yesterday we heard a gunshot.

Carly tells her to stop talking. She doesn’t care how they got here; her boy is gone and it’s because of Olivia. Morgan was her baby and her heart. Olivia cries and says she’s sorry. Carly asks for which part, and lists the things Morgan will never do. Or is she sorry for what she stole from Carly? She can’t look back at memories and smile, when he died for less than nothing; there’s no way to make peace with that. She says all the memories are tainted because of Olivia. She can beg all she wants, but she killed Carly’s kindness the night she killed her boy. Carly aims the gun, but gets distracted by a sound, and Olivia flees.

Kiki tells Dillon welcome to her world. He asks if she’s talked to Olivia-J, but she says she hopes the police get her first before they ever meet. Just when she thought her family couldn’t get worse. Dillon says serial killer dad; he gets it. He asks since her mom is in the clear, if that changes anything. He says she’s had a longing in her eyes to escape, so maybe now that things are cool with Ava, she doesn’t have to do that. Kiki says it should just make things better They kiss, and he says maybe they should test it out.

Tracy and Monica walk in. Tracy says she’s glad Dillon was so concerned about them.

Dante asks Alexis what happened. She says Olivia-J handcuffed her to the footbridge, and ordered Julian to kill her, but he shot the handcuffs instead. She heard a shot, and Olivia was standing on the bridge with the gun, but Julian was nowhere in sight.

Sonny can’t figure out who Olivia-J still needs to terrorize. Winston says whatever she was doing, she had to make it quick. Sonny thinks maybe she had to get something to let people know that she’s not just a bad memory. Sonny tells Winston that this concludes their business.

Carly shoots at Olivia-J, who calls for help. Carly says no one can hear except her. She knocks Olivia down. She says she could have shot her in the back, but that would be too easy. She wants to see Olivia afraid. She says this is for Morgan, but before she can shoot, Sonny arrives.

Jordan and Dante see someone lying below the bridge.

Ava asks Alexis if she’s okay. She feels terrible about what’s happened, and says Olivia-J is insane. She must have been threatening Julian all this time. Everything he’s done, he did for Alexis and his family. Alexis wonders how they got here. She asks if Alexis saw Olivia shoot him. Alexis says it was either him or her, and he chose her. Ava says Julian is resourceful and might have found a way out. She wonders how it happened. Alexis suddenly remembers the bomb at the hospital, but Ava tells her everything is fine and the hospital is still standing. Ava says she hates waiting while Julian is out there. She says they can’t make her stay, and the same goes for Alexis. They leave together.

Tracy tells Dillon that they thought they were going to die. He says he was busy with work. Tracy asks if that’s what he calls it. Kiki apologizes about what happened with Olivia-J, but Monica says if she apologized for all of her family’s misdeeds, she’d be saying mea culpa for eternity. Dillon says he’s happy they’re okay. Dillon takes Kiki upstairs, and Tracy says they have no shame. Monica says why? They never did.

Carly asks Sonny what he’s doing there, and he says looking for this piece of trash. Carly says she found Olivia-J first, and Olivia is all hers.

Monica tells Tracy that they’re celebrating. Tracy asks if they’re celebrating her son’s active sex life, and Monica tells her that they’ve survived yet another attempt to destroy GH. They toast to life. Monica adds, and to Tracy. She thanks Tracy for being a comfort when Jason was in danger. Tracy says it was just the panic talking. Monica says it was her, and thanks her again. They talk about the new baby. Tracy says she’d love another grandchild. Monica looks up and says maybe her wish will come true. Tracy says bad enough that Ned is raising Julian’s son by Olivia-F, and no, please, no.

Dillon and Kiki are getting busy. They make pillow talk. She says she missed him, and he says ditto. He says it’s her first time in his room, and welcome to the love den. She says she’ll pretend he didn’t say that, and the upside is that there are no lava lamps or beanbag chairs.

Alexis and Ava show up at the bridge. It’s Winston at the bottom. Alexis says he works for Olivia-J, and tells Jordan who he is. Jordan says they finally meet, and asks where his boss is. He says she was supposed to meet him there, but never did. Dante cuffs him. Winston says he already survived the third degree from Sonny. Dante asks where Sonny is. Winston doesn’t know, but says he seemed to know where he could find Olivia.

Carly tells Sonny that she gets it now. The law won’t take care of her, and this is the only way to get justice. He tells her this kind of thing always comes back to haunt you. Olivia-J tries to agree, and he tells her to shut up. Carly wants her to die, and Sonny says she is going to die – when she least expects it.

Monica has to go. Tracy asks if she’s going to bed, and Monica says in a manner of speaking. Tracy asks who it is. Monica says a good friend who’s been wonderful, and that it’s nice to share your day with someone; Tracy should try it sometime.

Jordan says they’ll find Julian unless he got away. Dante asks if Sonny figured out what Olivia-J meant by righting her past. Winston thinks he did, although he might be a little scrambled since he was staring down the barrel of a gun. Sonny said his son is buried where Olivia should be.

Dante takes Winston away. An officer brings a bloody jacket over, and Ava says it’s Julian’s.

Sonny tells Carly that they’re not wasting another minute. If she does this, Carly will go to prison, and everyone will lose except Olivia-J. Carly asks if she should just let Olivia walk away. Sonny says she’s going to pay in the most painful way, but they have to do it in a way that doesn’t get traced back to them. He asks Carly to trust him. Carly says she’s not going to slip through the cracks and she’s going to suffer. Sonny says she has his word, and she gives him the gun. Carly tells Olivia that whatever Sonny has in store, she’ll wish Carly had taken care of her tonight. He’s going to destroy her. Sonny says she speaks the truth. Olivia has had a good run, but it ends now.

Monica gives something to Tracy that got mixed in with her mail. It’s from Lord Larry Ashton. He apologizes for making Tracy ill. It was never his intention, and as he lurches toward the next chapter, he has something important to discuss with her. He asks her to contact him. Tracy says “extreme importance” translates into he needs money. Tracy tears up the letter, and tells Monica to have fun.

Dillon asks Kiki to stay the night. He says it would be great to wake up together, and she says it would be awesome. He wants to be with her as much as possible. They’re not their families and never will be.

The divers have come up empty, but the current is strong and there’s blood on the riverbank. Jordan takes a radio call. Ava says it sounds bad, but people survive these things. She did. Alexis says he was just a couple feet away from Olivia-J when she shot the gun. Jordan tells them that the investigation is still going on, but even if he survived the shot, he might not have survived the current and the cold. They should accept that he’s probably dead. Ha-ha. Never.

Olivia-J whimpers as Sonny holds the gun on her. He tells her to get up; they’re turning her in. Dante arrives and saves them a trip. Sonny gives him the gun. Olivia says they both tried to kill her and she got shot. Carly says she tried to get the gun and it went off. Dante tells Olivia to shut up, and tells the officers to cuff her. Carly says enjoy lockup, and Sonny says, see you real soon. Dante says she murdered his brother, and reads her Miranda rights as they take her away.

Carly tells Sonny that it would have been a disaster if she’d killed Olivia-J, but part of her wishes she had. Sonny says him too, but it wouldn’t honor Morgan. She says she knows now, and Sonny says he’ll incinerate her; there won’t be a corner in hell she can hide in. Carly says their baby can finally rest in peace.

Tomorrow, Nora tells Valentin there’s nothing to worry about, Franco works with Jake, and Alexis tells Sam what happened.

✨ Tonight was the finale of Star, and I’m so glad they’ve been renewed. First, the important stuff – accessories. Jude Demerest (Star) has been wearing gold hoops that remind me of a pair of earrings I had back in the day. Whenever I wore them, my boss threatened to bring a basketball in to work. I keep hearing that hoops are back, but as far as I’m concerned, they never went anywhere. Queen Latifah had nothing on those hoops though, since hers had pompoms on them. I’m hoping I can find something comparable online. That doesn’t cost a second mortgage. I love Oscar de la Renta, but $400 for tassels? Please. Oh yeah, the show. Big Boi became their manager for about five minutes after Benjamin Bratt went to jail. (Queen Latifah bailed him out.) He decided he wanted to go the Latin route and ended up signing only with J-Lo Eva, leaving the girls managerless. It turns out the group has a name – which either I never caught or they never mentioned – Big Trouble. After setting Benjamin Bratt up (or so we think), Selena Eva also got it on with Star’s rich squeeze, Hunter. Now ex-squeeze, after Star went back for one of her costumes, and he beat on her again when she threatened him with a crowbar. Simone came to Star’s rescue, and Hunter did get his own back. Which made his tryst with Eva even more surprising. You’d think he’d be in the ER. The girls won the contest, Queen Latifah became their manager, and now that I know their group name, she wants to change it. Instead of getting her surgery, Cotton got arrested for grand theft. For the shocker ending, Eva and Hunter were riddled with bullets, and got killed Friday the 13th style, while they were doing the nasty. How much you want to bet Benjamin Bratt gets blamed for this? And somehow Queen Latifah will save the day? Why not? Jahil always gets the short end of the stick, and Carlotta always does all the work.

🗽 And since The Real Housewives of New York City: How They Got Here was on tonight, here is possibly the greatest quote of all time:

Be cool. Don’t be all, like…uncool. – (then) Countess Luann de Lesseps

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nelle is packing. She says there’s nothing left for her in Port Charles. She looks at the keyring that Michael gave her, and thinks about their time at the cabin.

Sonny comes by Michael’s office. He wants to apologize.

There’s a knock at Nelle’s door. It’s Carly. She says she’s dropping off Nelle’s last paycheck. She tells Nelle that there will be hell to pay if she comes near her family again.

When Valentin sees Nina, Nora reminds him to remain calm and stable. Nina says she’s Charlotte’s stepmother, and there to make a statement. She apologizes for being late. The judge tells her to take a seat, and tell them what she thinks is in Charlotte’s best interest.

Jordan tells Julian that they searched the basement, and there’s no sign of Olivia-J or Anna. Julian says he didn’t tell her the basement, he said under the hospital, and if Olivia finds out Anna is trailing her, there’s no telling what she’ll do.

Oooh! They replay “Duke’s” reincarnation. Olivia says it worked. Griff/Duke says because of her, he lives again. This is way cool.

Michael tells Sonny that it’s been a long day and he just wants to get home. Sonny doesn’t expect him to say all is forgiven, but he wants Michael to hear him out. He says Michael cared about Nelle, and Michael says he thought they were getting close. Michael tells Sonny that if he wants to apologize, it shouldn’t be to him.

Nelle tells Carly that her life is none of Carly’s business. Carly asks if Nelle made the lies up herself or did deadbeat Frank make them up? Nelle asks if he was such a deadbeat, why did he keep this, and shows her the rattle. Carly says he probably wanted to pawn it. She says he didn’t give a damn about her until she was grown-up, married, and rich

Nora is like, jackpot, but Valentin says we’ll see. Lulu tells Laura that it’s a disaster, but Laura says maybe not. She has faith things will work out like they’re supposed to. Nina says she wants to tell the court the truth about her marriage.

Anna tells Griff/Duke to stay away from Olivia-J. He says stay out of it; he owes his life to Olivia. Olivia says there were more incantations to be done, but Griff/Duke says her passion drew him back. He kisses her, and says she proved everyone wrong. Olivia sees Duke instead of Griff, and hugs him. Anna is like, wha…?

Jordan wonders what Olivia-J wants with the foundation of the hospital, and asks if Julian thinks something is buried there. Julian says he doesn’t know, but she’s obsessed. Jordan says they know she was obsessed with Duke, and asks if he thinks Griff is in danger. Julian says maybe.

Griff/Duke tells Olivia-J that she sacrificed everything to bring him back, and he doesn’t know how to make it up to her. Olivia is just happy he’s there. Griff gives Anna the eye when he embraces Olivia. He says that he and Olivia can leave there and be together forever. Olivia says she’s waited forever to hear those words, but what about Anna? They won’t have to worry for too long; she’s going to bleed to death while they’re goofing around.

Nina says when she and Valentin got together, they were strangers. Their relationship grew quickly, which was a surprise to her and everyone else. She says people saw their marriage as a sham, and nothing could be further from the truth. She loves him, and they got married because they love each other. In him, she sees a capacity to love and nurture that she never knew existed. He encouraged her to form a bond with Charlotte, and she loves her. She says Lulu is allowing her animosity toward Valentin to blind her to the truth. It would be a mistake to take Charlotte away from the father she loves and the home she knows.

Julian hears the door to his room open, and says he wants to be left alone. Winston, pretending to be a doctor, asks if he doesn’t have time for an old friend.

Griff/Duke says he’ll always love Anna, but his heart belongs to Olivia-J; the past is over. He says the best thing for all of them would be for Anna to leave and get the help she needs. Jordan looks around the basement and sees the fingerprints near the secret door.

Michael asks why Sonny would throw it all away. Sonny says he didn’t plan it, but on Thanksgiving night, Morgan was gone, and he couldn’t think straight. He thought he and Carly were done, and got drunk. Nelle saw the state he was in, and while they were putting Morgan in the ground, she worked herself in; it was a trap. Michael says she was plotting against them, being who they wanted her to be, so she could get close. Sonny says she fooled all of them to get at Carly. Michael says at the end, she tried to stop it, and he can see what could have been if she was the person she was pretending to be. Sonny says he’s lucky; the only real thing is her grudge against Carly. Michael says Sonny could have warned them; all he had to do is tell the truth.

Nelle says Carly wants to paint Frank in a bad light. He reached out to her, and she rejected him. Carly says she’s living in a fantasyland that Frank created. He only hit her up for cash. Nelle dumps out a bunch of letters out of her trinket box. They all say return to sender.

Lulu asks Diane if she can do something, and says Diane has to prove Valentin is unfit. She says she has an option, but it’s brutal and final, and there will be no room for compromise.

Nora thanks Nina. Her phone rings, and she steps away. Valentin tells Nina how grateful he is. She says she’s not done fighting with him about the secrets he’s keeping from her, but he and their marriage are worth the fight.

Diane wants to file a petition to remove Charlotte from Valentin’s home. He’s guilty of a felony – kidnapping his own daughter.

Griff/Duke tells Olivia-J that Anna has no place in their life. Anna says she’s not walking away. Griff/Duke says it’s for the best. Anna says he needs to take care of himself, and he says he will, good-by. Olivia says she can’t let that happen, and draws a gun that must have been in her shoe.

Winston tells Julian that he needs to tie up loose ends. They can’t risk Julian opening his mouth. He and Julian struggle on the bed, and Winston puts pillows over Julian’s head. Felix walks in and asks what’s going on, and Winston jets. Julian tells Felix to get Jordan.

Jordan is told Julian was attacked. She asks if it was Olivia-J, but learns it was a man posing as a doctor. She runs back upstairs.

Olivia-J says that Anna will go to the police. Griff/Duke tells her that they’ll be long gone. She says they can’t allow a witness, and she’s sorry, but Anna has to die.

Valentin says that’s absurd. Nora says he’s under no legal obligation to deal with this. He wants to straighten it out, and says he’s been Charlotte’s legal guardian since her birth. Diane says she thinks she can establish grounds, and that in the eyes of the law, kidnapping is a broad term. When in reference to custody, it can mean one parent denying the other contact. Nora says Valentin has gone out of his way to facilitate contact. Diane says recently, but when did he know that Lulu was Charlotte’s biological mother?

Nelle asks if these are the letters, and says that they were all sent back unopened. Carly says that Frank wanted cash, not bonding. Nelle says he was trying to support his family, and she knew that, because the first time she wrote him back. She told him if he needs to make ends meet, don’t look to her. Why should she care about him or his little brat? Nelle says she cared about his little brat when she needed a kidney for hers.

Michael asks why Sonny didn’t tell him the truth. Sonny says he didn’t want to add to Carly’s pain or burden any of them. Michael is like, this was better, huh? He says that Sonny watched for months, and was protecting himself, leaving the door open for Nelle to trash his family.

Nelle insists that Carly wanted this. She didn’t ask any questions, and the second Josslyn was safe, she was done.

Jordan gets the deets about the attack on Julian. She wonders why Winston would do Olivia-J’s bidding. Julian says she has a bunch of thugs that she orders around, and no one is safe.

Griff/Duke tells Olivia-J that the authorities might reverse what she’s done, and she’ll lose him again. Anna says she wouldn’t do anything to threaten his chances. Olivia says that Anna wants her locked up so she can have him. She tells Griff/Duke not to fight her. He says he understands it’s the only way, but he should be the one to pull the trigger; then he can be totally free to start over with her. She says he’s right, and she doesn’t want to jeopardize them having a life together. She hands him the gun and he points it at her.

Jordan asks Felix for anything he remembers. She says no one comes in or out of the hospital; GH is under lockdown.

Valentin tells the court that when he found out about the embryo, he knew it was Lulu’s egg. Diane says he denied Lulu a relationship with her daughter, and he’s deliberately manipulated the situation. Nora objects to Diane manipulating the facts. The judge says she’s going to deliberate in chambers, but it will be quick. Lulu thinks she might get to take Charlotte home, but you know what they say about counting those Charlottes chickens.

Laura tells Nina that she obviously didn’t take their talk to heart, but Nina says she did, more than Laura knows. Laura hopes Nina will be able to live with the choice. So much for having faith in things turning out the way they’re supposed to. Nora tells Diane that her petition will be denied, but kudos for the argument. Diane says she doesn’t know what they do in Llanview, but in Port Charles, they go for the kill.

Griff/Duke tells Olivia-J that she needs help. Olivia says he told her that they belong together, and Anna says she belongs in an institution. She wants Duke alive more than anyone, but he’s never coming back. Olivia flashes back to her, Duke, and the rest of us being young. Olivia starts to cry, and Griff says he’s not his father. Olivia rushes him, and he ends up dropping the gun when he falls.

Jordan secures the building. Felix sees Winston going into a stairwell, and tells Jordan. Jordan radios in that she’s in pursuit of a suspect. No one is to move until they get her signal.

Anna drags Olivia-J off of Griff, who picks up the gun. Olivia says it’s not over. She knows something that they don’t.

Sonny accepts that his family hates him. Michael says he hates being disappointed, and Sonny is better than this. Sonny says he’ll do everything to prove he’s better. He says Michael has a gift of forgiveness; he has a way of letting go and moving on. He begs Michael not to do it with Nelle. She’s dangerous, a liar, and a user. He asks Michael to promise not to let her back in.

Carly tells Nelle that she believed Josslyn’s donor was Jake. She begged her best friend to make the sacrifice. She has no idea how Josslyn ended up with Nelle’s kidney, but she didn’t approach Frank. Nelle asks if she thinks it’s a coincidence. If she didn’t arrange it, who did? Carly says Frank did a number on Nelle, and it’s not her fault, but what she did to Carly’s family is her fault. If she’d told the truth, Carly would have helped, but she chose to sabotage Carly’s family, so keep packing. If she messes with them again, she’ll find out what payback really feels like. Carly leaves, and Nelle shoves the letters back in box. She looks at the keyring, and says she thinks it’s time to give this town another chance.

In the hallway, Carly tells someone on the phone that they need to talk now.

The hearing is back in session. The judge says that the unique circumstances of Charlotte’s conception puts the court in a unique position. Clearly both parties want what’s best for her, but it’s unclear who can provide the best situation. The court will arrange for Charlotte to meet with a psychologist to determine her wishes. Diane’s petition is denied. She tells Valentin if he pulls a stunt like that again, she’ll make the decision herself.

Valentin asks what Nora thinks, and she says it’s a good sign. She hopes neither one of them have skeletons in the closet. Diane thinks the meeting will show that Charlotte needs her mother.

Jordan is back in the basement, and calls out that she’s armed. She looks at the fingerprints again, and opens the door. Before she can enter, she gets whacked in the back of the head with a pipe.

Anna tells Olivia-J that it’s over. Olivia says that if she gets taken away, Anna won’t know what she did to Robin. I have to admit, in all this craziness, I forgot all about Robin.

Tomorrow, Olivia-J tells Anna that history is coming back to haunt her, Finn makes a deal with Brad, Nelle tells Josslyn that they’re no longer friends, and Carly questions Michael about his feelings for Nelle.

🌟 Much to my delight, Star has been renewed for a second season. Queen Latifah’s hair alone gives me life, and I’m loving seeing Naomi Campbell as a grown-up actress. They never cease to come up with interesting guest stars either, tonight’s offering being Paris Jackson as a photographer, and Big Boy as himself, hoping to sign the girls. Because of the latter, the girls set up their manager, Jahil (Benjamin Bratt), because they want out of their contract. In an excellent scene, Cotton (Amiyah Scott) put on male drag so that she could cash some stolen checks. Brava and bravo! Lead singer Star’s boyfriend, who did not want her to go on tour, hit her again, and I’m hoping that she calls it quits this time. The characters all seem real, so it was an easy show to invest in. Next week is the season finale, where we’ll see if the girls win the contest they’ve been working toward. If they don’t, I might be as disappointed as they’ll be. I’m also hoping a tour doesn’t mean we don’t see the home town characters as much.

😢 Worth mentioning. Sadly, Teresa Giudice’s, mother passed away last week. (At the age of 66 – this is getting scary!) What makes it even more poignant is Teresa having to go it alone, without husband Joe, who is serving time. I know, I know, but I’ve watched them for so long, they seem like cousins that I might not like very much, but they’re family, so I invite them to Thanksgiving.

🍑 Southern Charm: How They Got Here was what I suspected. Here, is where we left off, with yet another argument at a big party, and it was basically clips from the previous seasons. The Bravo milk-train rolls on…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Franco and Elizabeth bask in the afterglow. Have they been doing it all this time??? They make silly pillow talk. Elizabeth’s phone rings. It’s Monica with the good news that GH has been saved.

Olivia-J tells Julian that he failed her. She doesn’t have GH, the one thing she truly needed. She pulls out her switchblade and says she blames him. I wish they’d lose the switchblade. This isn’t West Side Story and it doesn’t work for her.

Curtis busts into Jordan’s office. He starts to talk, but Alexis comes running in behind him and interrupts. She asks if Curtis told Jordan, and he says he was about to. He tells Jordan that the person responsible for planting the bomb is Julian’s older sister, Olivia Jerome.

Olivia-J tells Julian that he’s a crappy brother. Ha-ha! He failed at killing her, and failed at GH. She has to threaten to kill everyone he loved to get him to help her. He thinks that makes her a crappy sister. She says then he tried to kill her again – that’s strike three. I get the distinct impression that these two are having a hard time keeping it together during this scene.

Michael asks Nelle what happened, and she says she’s done something terrible.

We revisit Carly telling Sonny that they wouldn’t want to offend Nelle, but it offends her that Sonny screwed Nelle. Sonny admits he slept with Nelle.

Scout is fine, but not so much Sam. She keels over after seeing that the baby is okay.

Jordan is shocked that Olivia-J is alive. Alexis says she goes by Liv something-or-other now. Alexis thinks that she did something to Sam, and explains what happened. She tells Jordan that she met “Liv” this afternoon, and she had a bruise on her face, then Sam’s phone showed up in Alexis’s purse. Jordan says it’s enough for her. Alexis says that Olivia has been hiding in plain sight. Jordan asks if Julian knows, and Curtis says he thinks Julian has been taking orders from her for a while now.

Olivia-J whines about all the work she’s done, and thinks she should go in a different direction. Julian says he’s on board.

Elizabeth tells Franco that the sickout worked; the hospital found another solution. He wonders about his job, and she says she’ll find out the details. He says he’s coming with her.

Michael tells Nelle that they can fix it, and she says not “we.” Before she can say anything else, Monica approaches and thanks him for everything he did. His stalling gave them time to save the hospital. She leaves, and Nelle asks how he saved GH. He says a miracle happened, and tells her about what Finn did, giving his patent proceeds to the hospital. Michael says that he tap-danced for 15 minutes, and never talked about nothing for so long. Nelle says he’s a good person. He says she is too, but she says she’s not, and that’s why she has to go away.

Sonny tells Carly that on Thanksgiving he was drowning in his own pain. He thought she was getting back with Jax, and wouldn’t have anything to do with him. She says it’s not like it was just once, and tells him she saw the flowers he sent. He says they weren’t from him. She says she has proof, and plays the audio file. Um…that isn’t proof of anything except that he did what he said he did. Sonny says he was set up from the start.

Jason tells Sam that the ambulance is on its way, but he needs her to wake up. She rallies, and asks about the baby. Jason shows her that Scout is fine.

Monica welcomes Elizabeth back, and tells her how Finn saved the hospital. She wants things up and running asap, and asks if Elizabeth will do the graveyard shift. Franco wants to know when he’s back on the schedule. Monica says probably never.

Nelle says that she told Michael that she was a bad person. He asks her to be more specific. She says she has a sick friend in Atlanta. He asks why she should be ashamed of that, and she says her friend begged her to come back, but she didn’t because she was being selfish. She says her friend is worse, and she feels guilty. She’s been doing the wrong thing for too long, and has to go back to Atlanta. Michael says he’s going with her.

Sonny asks if Carly thinks that Nelle just happened to have a recording. Carly says that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Sonny says a recording doesn’t just happen; Nelle is playing the both of them. She says it sounded like Nelle wanted to come clean and he stopped her. Carly says she’s a liar and a cheat, just like him, but she doesn’t want to talk about Nell; she wants to talk about him. She asks how he could do this to them and their marriage.

Jason tells Sam to hang on. She begs him not to leave her, and he promises he won’t. He says her kids need her, and he’s going to get her out of there. She says she’s tired, and starts fading.

Franco says he knows he’s done some unforgivable things to Monica’s family. Monica says she’ll probably never forgive him, but if she thought that he was a danger, she wouldn’t have let him work at the hospital in the first place. She says there’s enough to keep the hospital running, but a lot of services have to be dropped, including art therapy. He says he has bills to pay, and she says there are other positions open; otherwise, good luck. He looks at the job sheet, but finds nothing appropriate. Elizabeth says maybe he should go back to being an artist full time, but he tells her that’s not an option.

Michael tells Nelle they’ll have time talk and be together. Nelle says if she had more time, she could explain things, but they have to go now. He says he’ll reserve the jet. She gets nervous about him calling the office.

Sonny says he thought Carly wasn’t coming back, and he was down about Morgan. Carly says she was too. He says he thought she went back to Jax. He doesn’t blame her, since she thought he was responsible for Morgan’s death. He did too. She asks if he’s saying that he had a weak moment. He says he was wrong and made a mistake, but Nelle didn’t. He says if she made the recording, that means she was going to use it. So she was setting the both of them up.

Sam lies down again. She tells Jason to take the baby and go. He says she’ll have to hold Scout, and he’s going to carry them, but she can’t go back to sleep. Waiting for the ambulance isn’t an option since it’s already been two days. He gives Scout to her, and picks them up. Wow. He-man Jason. I’m not saying that Sam is heavy, but the wall is steep and slanted.

Julian tells Olivia-J that if she wants to build condos, he’ll help her. They can find another hospital to buy. She says it was never about that. It wasn’t even about getting real estate. It was about getting this specific piece of real estate. He asks what’s important about GH, and she says it’s not GH, it’s what lies beneath the hospital. Oooh, I’m intrigued. Is it a Chinese burial ground? That might explain whatever possessed them to make Alan into a ghost for a while.

Alexis tells Jordan that, whatever their relationship in the past, Julian is terrified of Olivia-J now. Jordan says if Alexis can get Olivia to call her, they can get her location. Alexis says she won’t pick up. Curtis says if Alexis were to have a crisis, as her sponsor, Olivia would be her first call. She doesn’t even know if Alexis found the phone. Alexis says whatever they want. She just wants to find Sam.

Miraculously, Jason gets Sam and Scout up to the bridge. Sam passes out. The sirens get closer. Jason calls out for help.

Julian asks what lies beneath GH. Olivia-J’s phone rings. It’s Alexis. Olivia says that Alexis must have found what was in her purse. Julian asks if it was a purse bomb. Both Olivia and I laugh. She tells him she put Sam’s phone in Alexis’s bag. Alexis calls again. Olivia wonders if she’s trying to confront her or trick her. Julian says only one way to find out, and if she’s smart, she’ll answer. He says if it is a trap, she might want to think about leaving town. Olivia answers.

Alexis acts all panicked, and says she needs to see Olivia-J right away. Olivia might be her only hope.

Elizabeth tells Franco that it’s going to be okay. He takes the list from the bulletin board.

Michael tells Monica that he’s taking Nelle to visit a sick friend. Nelle asks to borrow Michael’s phone. She steps around the corner and says that she just needs a few hours alone with Michael, far away.

Carly asks Sonny if he thinks that it’s her fault, since she’s the one who invited Nelle in. She says Nelle is her daughter’s kidney donor. Sonny says he didn’t say it was her fault. She asks if he stopped for a second to think about what he was throwing away. He says he blacked out, and when he woke up, Nelle was lying next to him. All he could think about was how badly he was going to hurt Carly, so he went against his instincts and covered it up. He says he played right into Nelle’s hands and he’s sorry.

Olivia-J tells Alexis it sounds serious. Alexis says that she’s having a crisis; no one can find Sam. She says she’s in front of a liquor store, and asks if Olivia can meet her. Olivia says that she can’t, and Alexis isn’t working her program. Her only hope is her higher power. Olivia tells her to find a meeting, and hangs up. She tells Julian that Alexis is on to them. She says that Alexis told her she was in front of a liquor store, but there were no background noises. She says they need to regroup, wrap things up, and move on to the next level.

Jordan got the location. She tells Alexis and Curtis to stay there. The second Jordan is gone, Curtis asks Alexis if she wants to follow with him.

Nelle hurries Michael out of the hospital.

Carly says even if Sonny only slept with Nelle once on Thanksgiving, he’s been keeping it from her for months. Sonny says he’s known something about Nelle since before Christmas. She wanted Carly to figure it out. He asks about the flowers. Carly says they were sent to Nelle at work, and the card was signed with an S. He asks how long she’s known him, and if she thinks he’d do something like that. Seriously. Why would Carly even entertain the notion that Sonny would be that stupid? He says the day Carly had Nelle go up to the bedroom, she planted her bra in the bed. Carly is like, huh? He says he straightened out the bed and found it. He went to Nelle and confronted her. He told her to back off, and that’s probably when she decided to use the recording. Carly says she believes him. Not to defend Nelle, but one thing they have wrong is that she never used the tape and tried to delete it.

Franco fills out an application for janitor. He says Elizabeth can do the nursing and he’ll do the sweeping. He tells her that helping people with art has been gratifying, but he didn’t know it was a calling. She’s the one who motivated him to change. Sam is wheeled into the ER with Scout. They tell Elizabeth blah-blah-blah medical stuff.

Jordan busts into where Olivia-J was staying, but the room is empty. She sees the handcuffs dangling from the radiator. Curtis and Alexis show up. Jordan says that Olivia could be anywhere right now.

Sam goes off to be examined. Jason almost gets in a scuffle with Franco.

Carly says she believes that Nelle was playing them, but she also believes he knew for months and did nothing to stop it. He was trying to spare himself, not her. He let her depend on Nelle and trust her, when they whole time he knew she was a lying bitch. She does have a very valid point. Sonny asks what he was supposed to do, and Carly says he could have told her right away. He asks if she would have believed him, and she says they’ll never know. They’ll never have the future they’d planned, and that hurts the worst. Sonny says he’ll do anything. Carly says it’s all on the recording, and tells him to leave her alone. She opens the door to Nelle and Michael standing there. I laugh because these are the moments we soap lovers live for.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth has an update on Sam, Laura finds herself who-knows-where, and Carly and Nelle face off.

⚔ I absolutely can’t wait to see Feud: Bette and Joan – FX, Sunday, March 5, 10 pm. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? is one of my favorite films, and all four actresses – Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange – are also favorites of mine. My head could possibly explode! The story lends itself to being made into movie, since what happened behind the scenes was as much of a drama as what they were filming.

🌟 Only two more episodes for this season of Star. I’ve enjoyed this show immensely. They’ve managed to balance the music with the drama, like Fame and Glee before them, and given a fresh spin to many an old tune. I also appreciate how they touch on social issues without hitting you over the head. It’s like how Carlotta (Queen Latifah) said, I’m woke, but I gotta live my life too. This week, the girls won the contest they’ve been working toward, but because of a technicality, had to add a fourth member to the group. It’s Star’s nemesis, J-Lo Eva (Sharlene Taulé). I don’t mean to be picky, but she looks about 35. (I looked this up later, and she is.) Not that there’s anything wrong with that – I wish I was 35 again – but I would think she’s a little old to be singing with these girls. I was actually hoping they’d drag in Cotton (Amiyah Scott), but she was too high to sit up straight, much less do dance moves. Tonight’s episode also included a new rendition of Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag that I loved. Overall, this show is also quite upbeat, which I think we could all use a little more of.

🍸 I caught a glimpse of So Cosmo, the reality venture that looks at the employees of Cosmopolitan magazine. If I was the editor, I would quit if I had to work with these people, who seem like a bunch of millennial crybabies. I almost couldn’t take it when the fashion editor started whining about how we’re all responsible for everyone’s feelings, after Karl Lagerfeld used the word “ghetto” in his show title. First of all, has she ever seen him? He’s a German guy who looks like someone out of a James Bond movie, probably doesn’t know a ghetto block from a block of cream cheese, and designs clothing that no one from the ghetto is ever going to buy. Secondly, if you’re going to make speeches, get some speech therapy. She sounded like a stereotypical Valley Girl – even worse than the Kardashians – and every sentence was like nails on a blackboard. The saving grace was seeing some fantastic fashion and parties, and things I will never, ever be able to afford.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly keeps trying to get ahold of Nelle, and leaving messages. Sonny asks who she’s talking to.

Michael wraps Nelle in a towel. He says the fire will do the rest. They almost kiss, and she says she can’t.

Ava calls for the guard, saying she wants to see the commissioner. She’s going to sue everyone because of a gross miscarriage of justice. I wonder how I can get a denim prison shirt like she’s wearing. Orange will never be the new black, but that shirt looks amazing, and apparently the Port Charles jail is fashion forward. Julian shows up. Ava asks if he’s there to get her out. I thought she didn’t want to be out?

Tracy is impatient, and Hayden says to let her work. Tracy asks if the Quartermaines will be able to save the hospital or not.

Jason sees Monica at the hospital, and tells her about how he was supposed to meet Sam there. He says the wires must have gotten crossed because there wasn’t an appointment listed. Monica thinks that’s odd. Jason says she’s probably on her way back home.

Olivia-J tells Sam about starting over. She notices Sam looking at her keyring, and asks if Sam knows what it says and if the characters mean anything to her.

Julian says he doesn’t like seeing Ava behind bars. She tells him to spring her then; tell them she had nothing to do with the bomb. He says if he could get her out, he would. She says he can tell the police it’s not her on the recording. She tells him that when he was on trial, she did everything she could to make sure he was acquitted. She blackmailed Paul, and this is how he repays her? Julian says he’ll get her out soon.

Olivia-J says the characters obviously struck chord with Sam. Sam says it’s beautiful. She tells Olivia she knows a  little about the Chinese culture, and was married in a Chinese restaurant. (Not the Chinese food pawn remedy shop.) She tells Olivia about the family who owned the restaurant. Olivia says that for those who believe, the symbols can infuse you with power and remind you of who you are against tremendous odds. Sam asks what it means to Olivia. Olivia says it means reincarnation.

Monica tells Jason that Hayden and Tracy are crunching the final numbers. The board meets tomorrow and will decide. She thanks Jason for his contribution, and he says he knows what the hospital means to the family. Monica gives him a blanket, and tells him that Lila knitted it when he was born. She was thrilled, and thought he’d be a blessing, and she was right. Jason thanks her, and they hug.

Hayden tells Tracy that it’s only a quick assessment and needs adjustment. Tracy asks if they can keep the hospital open. Monica pops in, and seconds that. Hayden says she thinks they did it.

Michael tells Nelle that he knows it’s awkward, but he won’t try to kiss her again. She says it can’t happen. He says he knows she has an agreement with a guy, and he can respect it if that’s what she wants, but if it’s her boyfriend’s idea, he’s crazy.

Carly tells Sonny not to worry, and it’s about his surprise. He wants to know what it is, but she says that she’s going to dangle it until she springs it. She says it involves a magic trick to make the whole world disappear. She has errands to run and leaves. Sonny calls Jason. He says they need to talk.

Hayden tells Monica and Tracy that nothing is settled, but they can risk a little celebration. Tracy says the board might still want to sell. She says some are concerned with the hospital’s well-being, but others are greedy bastards – to put it delicately. She says Fred Gray is leading the charge, and she thinks he’s made deals with the developers. She tells them that they don’t have time to prove wrong doing, but they need to make sure they have the necessary number of board members on their side. She tells Hayden that’s her job.

Ava asks Julian when she can expect to go home, and Julian tells her to be patient. She says another night kind of patient, or the next few years will fly by kind of patient? He says he’s left instructions with Alexis. Ava says Alexis hates her, but not as much as she hates Julian, and wants to know how Alexis will get her out. Julian says she’ll know soon, and to trust him. He says Alexis won’t know the instructions until she doesn’t hear from him, puzzling Ava.

Sonny tells Jason about talking to Robin, and that Ava isn’t Julian’s only sister. Jason says they did some digging, but she died in 1990. Sonny wonders if there’s another sister, and Jason suggests that maybe she’s not dead.

Olivia-J tells Sam that reincarnation has a particular meaning in her life. Sam flashes back to talking to Jason about Julian’s family. She asks Olivia what it means.

At Carly’s office, Bobbie talks to Felicia on the phone, and asks if she’s found out anything about Nelle. Carly comes in to get some champagne for the cabin. Since she keeps all the champagne in her office. Bobbie tells her that she was going through mail so that things didn’t get to behind, but now Carly can do it while they chat. Bobbie rests her hand on Nelle’s envelope.

Michael tells Nelle that he knows it’s none of his business, but he wouldn’t have said anything if he thought she was happy. She says she is, but he says she doesn’t seem like it. He says she plays things close to the vest, and she says it’s a defense mechanism. If you don’t give people details, they can’t use them against you; if you don’t share secrets, no one can betray you. Michael says if you keep yourself so closed off, it helps keep away those who will hurt you, but also keeps away the ones who could care about you.

Carly says the mail can wait; she has to get going. Bobbie asks about the latest Ava development. Carly says she wanted to kill Ava, and Bobbie says it does no good for her to throw her life away for that. Carly tells her that Sonny said the same thing. Bobbie says despite her objections in the past, she’s glad they’re back together. Carly tells her about the cabin, but Bobbie says the roads are impassible, so no romantic getaway.

Nelle says Michael means well, but doesn’t know her. She says not everyone is as lucky as he is. He doesn’t know where she got the idea he’s led a charmed life. He says he always had money, but he’s also been betrayed. She says he can get past it because he still has a loving family, but it won’t work out that way for her.

Jason tells Sonny that supposedly Julian killed Olivia-J (also Olivia St. John), shooting her in the back. Sonny says it’s possible she survived. Jason says if she did, there’s a good chance that she killed Morgan.

Ava asks Julian what’s going on, and Julian says it’s too dangerous; he can’t tell her. She asks who’s stopping him, and says that he seems terrified. She begs him to trust her. She might be able to help him even if she can’t help herself. She says they’ve betrayed each other and threatened to kill each other, but those experiences brought them closer. When it really matters, they stand together. Whatever danger he’s in, it affects her too. She asks what the hell is going on.

Olivia-J sneakily takes a picture of Sam in the car with her. She tells Sam that she had a defining moment when she became sober, and left her past behind. It was the epitome of reincarnation. She asks Sam if she’s ever had a defining moment.

Ava tells Julian that she’s the only family he can rely on. He says he wishes he could tell her. She says if their bond means anything, he will. He says okay, but his phone rings. It’s a text message from Olivia-J.

Sam tells Olivia-J that she’s a social drinker, but she knows she doesn’t have a problem, since she easily gave it up when she became pregnant. Olivia says she wasn’t referring specifically to drinking, but a turning point where she thought all was lost, and an opportunity presented itself. Sam asks her to pull over.

Hayden wonders how she’s supposed to convince the board members. Monica says Michael and Laura are on their side. Tracy says even if Hayden’s powers of persuasion aren’t great, they have a reasonable certainty of winning. She tells Monica to get out the bubbly. It’s almost a done deal.

Carly calls the caretaker at the cabin. She hopes Nelle doesn’t try to get off the mountain, but thinks she should be fine. She thanks Bobbie for not trashing her. Bobbie admits to being unfair.

Nelle tells Michael that when she was little, she dreamt of growing up, getting away, and finding someone to love her. But the older she got, the clearer it became that the deck was stacked against her. She made the decision that if she couldn’t have happiness, she’d settle for satisfaction, and she’ll do whatever is necessary to get it. Michael says it sounds like she’s fighting for something less than she deserves. He asks if it’s what she wants, and she says it’s all she’s going to get, and that she doesn’t deserve to be happy. Michael hugs her and says, yes, she does. Playing Michael must be the most boring acting job in the world.

Jason talks to Spinelli on the phone. He tells Sonny no luck yet, but if there’s any trace of Olivia-J on the internet, Spinelli will point them toward it. He talks about the picture of Julian as a kid that they found, and the Chinese characters. Sonny wonders if they’re false leads, and if Jason isn’t seeing what’s in front of him. Maybe it is Ava.

Olivia-J sends Julian the picture of her and Sam in the car. Ava wonders what he’s looking at, but he says he can’t tell her.

Sam tells Olivia-J that she has to go to the bathroom. Olivia suggests going to a gas station, but Sam says she has a friend who lives just over the footbridge. Olivia says she can’t let her do that.

Tracy, Hayden, and Monica toast to the hospital.  Hayden is going to call Finn with the good news. Tracy says to tell her backgammon partner that she scored the biggest win of all. Monica says they all did.

Jason tells Sonny that they need to make the right person pay. Carly walks in. She tells Jason that she heard he doesn’t think Ava planted the bomb. Jason tells her that he wants to be sure before moving on anything; he wants to do some digging, but they’ll be the first to know if he finds anything. After he’s gone, Sonny tells Carly not to keep him in suspense, but she says the surprise has been canceled.

Olivia-J tells Sam that she’ll drive her to the house. Sam says the roads aren’t paved, and if no one is home, she knows where the key is. Sam gets out of the car, and starts walking across the bridge. She begins to call Jason and drops phone. Olivia kicks it, saying that Sam must think she’s stupid and underestimates her, as many have. She says they might as well drop the pretense.

Monica says it’s a good end to lousy day, and she’s going home. Tracy says she’s glad she thought of the solution, and Monica says she didn’t. Hayden tells Tracy that Finn isn’t answering and when she called the hotel, he’d canceled his reservation.

Nelle tells Michael that she’s done awful things. He says he’ll still be there. She says she almost believes it, and he tells her that she should, since he’s a terrible liar. He says that he’s a Corrinthos, Quartermaine, and Spencer, which makes him arrogant and determined, with a tendency to gloat. Nelle says she thinks she’s ready for a new path.  He asks if he’s on that new path.

Bobbie tells Felicia that she almost got caught, and ask if she’s found out anything about Nelle. She says, oh God no, and that’s what she was afraid of.

Sonny asks what the surprise was going to be, and Carly tells him about the cabin. She says they can’t go, since there’s a blizzard. Sonny tells her that they don’t have to leave to block out the world. They have champagne, a fireplace, and each other. They kiss.

Julian tells Ava that he’s sorry. Ava says he was about to talk, gets a mysterious text, and clams up. He says in time he’ll explain. She says she doesn’t know why she thought he’d help, since he’s the reason she’s in there. She’s done with him playing games with her life. She tells him that she should have let him go to prison, and he’s dead to her. He says she has no idea.

Sam says Olivia-J is freaking her out, and to give phone back. She says if Olivia won’t give it to her, to give it to Alexis the next time she sees her. Sam starts to walk across the bridge, and Olivia draws a gun. She says Sam has figured out who she is, and no one else can know.

Tomorrow, Anna asks Valentin to tell her what she doesn’t remember, Gray tells Julian that complications have come up, and Hayden wonders why Finn is still taking the drug.

🌟 Still loving Star, although it’s the kind of show that breeds kids who can’t carry a tune in a bushel basket, yet audition for American Idol. You know the ones I mean. The ones who claim that music is “their whole life” and their parents have told them that they sing like Mariah Carey. And then they open their mouths to sing. Jahil’s (Benjamin Bratt) latest vocal find is a girl he saved from white slavery about five minutes ago, who can suddenly shake, rattle and roll better than J-Lo — and also suddenly speaks perfect English. Although I have to admit, I’m obsessed with the distressed knee-high boots she was wearing. This week, there was also an excellent musical fantasy jailhouse sequence that included Queen Latifah, who is too fabulous for words. The minor characters are exceptional as well. Besides my fondness for Miss Lawrence (who knew he had such lovely acting chops?), one of my favorites is Maggie (Helena Kallianiotes, who was in one of my favorite movies of all time, Kansas City Bomber – 1972), who rules the local strip club like an aging Elizabeth Taylor.

I’m surprised I don’t hear more about this series, or that it hasn’t been slammed for being inappropriate in some way, either by the overprotective or the ultra-PC. Like a favorite dog breed or design of jeans, it’s become a double- edged sword.  I want more people to like it so that it sticks around, but I don’t want it to become so popular that it implodes.

🎭 Another newbie that’s growing on me, with only three episodes under its belt, is Imposters on Bravo. The plot centers around a group of con-artists, at the middle of which is Maddie (Inbar Lavi), who marries rich men, or women, and absconds with their fortunes. While there are a couple of familiar faces (like Brian Benben and Mary Kay Place), most of the cast is relatively fresh. Uma Thurman has just made an appearance, and I can’t wait to see what she stirs up. Maddie is also developing feelings for a man she met on the way to a mark, which doesn’t make her boss too happy. It airs Tuesdays at 10 pm, so it’s a nice break for me between The Haves and the Have Nots, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Bravo is doing well with its scripted shows. There’s an astounding amount of great television now – especially for those of us who remember having only four channels and a sign-off at one am – but the cable is still too damn high.

🍳 BTW, I can’t bring myself to watch My Kitchen Rules, even though I want to. Because, Brandi Glanville. What happened to the show with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg? Is that gone already? I thought it was a brilliant idea.

🌺 Southern Charm returns on Monday, April 3, 9 pm. I was just thinking about that show, and wondering if it was coming back during my workout. There’s a triceps exercise that always reminds me of Thomas “raising the roof” in his election ad.

🏛 The Real Housewives of Potomac also makes a comeback on Sunday, April 2, 9 pm. So much to look forward to! Kind of sad that I just said that.

February 15, 2017 – Valentine’s Day Continues in Port Charles, a Little Star & a Quote for Social Media

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At The Floating Rib, Lulu insists that she and Dante will have fun on their Valentine’s Day double date with Maxie and Nathan, despite the problems with Valentin. She tells Dante to keep it light, and no work talk. As they’re coming in, Maxie tells Nathan that Lulu doesn’t know she’s been fired yet.

Andre asks Anna what’s on her mind. She tells him that she had a troubling meeting with Carl. She rubs her forehead, saying that she took medication for her headache, but maybe she needs to drink more. Because medication always goes well with alcohol.

Curtis knocks on an apartment door. A gorgeous woman answers. It’s Grace, an old friend of his.

On the phone, Nina and Valentin make Valentine’s Day plans. Charlotte tells him that she’s not going to the sleepover at Mrs. Evan’s house.

Dillon comes to Kiki’s bearing the traditional Valentine’s gifts – candy, red roses, and a teddy bear holding a heart. She tells him that it’s supposed to be an anti-Valentine’s party, but he must not have gotten the memo. She makes fun of the fake flowers he brought. He gets offended and starts to leave.

Scotty meets with Ava at the station. She tells him he has to get her out of there, and she doesn’t understand what’s happening. He asks what she’s done. She says she wasn’t where they say she was, and the cops think she killed Morgan. He says they both know she did.

Kiki apologizes to Dillon for being ungrateful. He says he’s sorry, and her face was priceless. He was being ironic, thinking it would help set the mood. She takes the teddy bear from him. He promises no more seasonal junk, and he’ll be as unromantic as possible. Unless she wants to be romantic together. She says she’s kind of nervous, but excited to go out. He talks about their other dating disasters, and how they have to make up for them.

Anna tells Andre that Carl explained why Valentin resents her, but she thinks resentment doesn’t cover it. Andre says it must have been more than a kiss. Anna says apparently she sanctioned his assassination and put him on the WSB kill list. I’d say that’s definitely cause for resentment.

Valentin asks Charlotte why she doesn’t want to go. She gives him a handmade Valentine. It has Nina, Valentin, Charlotte, and a blonde-haired woman. He asks if the blonde woman is Lulu, but Charlotte says it’s mommy. He tells her that mommy is looking down on her from heaven, and that she would be impressed if she helped him with something.

Lulu and company make toasts. I see they’re trying to fix Maxie’s hair, and it’s a definite improvement. Dante excuses himself. Lulu apologizes for what happened at Crimson.

Ava tells Scotty about the planted evidence. He says he doesn’t know anything about a lease, but he’s not buying the innocent bit. She says she’s not talking about the pills, but the car bomb. He says that’s crazy, and she says none of it makes sense. She tells him about the recording, and he asks what Julian said. She says, not much. He told her she’d be fine, but 24 hours later, she isn’t. She tells Scotty to find Julian and hurry up about it.

Valentin asks Charlotte for help with his tie. These two are really cute together. He shows Charlotte the present he got for Nina, an engagement ring. He says traditionally it’s given before the wedding, but they’re not a traditional couple. He gives Charlotte an emerald bracelet because it’s her birthstone. He tells her that Mrs. Evans is looking forward to seeing her, and they leave.

Andre asks if Anna has any doubts about what Carl said. She tells him that she’s not sure, but why would he lie? She says she had a glimmer of a memory, but this is entirely different, and she wonders why she can’t remember something so significant. Andre says maybe it was traumatic, and her psyche is protecting her. He says he’s willing to take another shot at hypnotizing her if she wants.

Nina arrives at the restaurant to pick up dinner. Andre asks Anna if she wants to try again, and she says that she’ll think about it. She apologizes for taking him away from Jordan, and he tells Anna that they broke up. She asks if that’s what was bothering him, and if he wants to talk, but he takes a rain check. Anna apologizes for dumping on him. Andre says it’s fine, and he’s going somewhere that’s not couples central. They part company, and Andre gets a drink at the bar.

Lulu tells Maxie that part of her knew better, and she should have left. Maxie says it’s all her fault. Lulu says she hopes Nina isn’t taking it out on her, and Maxie says everything is fine.

Grace says she hasn’t seen Curtis in a while, and he vogues for her. She tells him to come in, and he says only if she’ll be his Valentine.

Scotty calls Julian, who says there’s nothing he can do. Scotty says he needs to come to the station now, and Julian hangs up on him. He wonders what the hell is going on, and makes another call.

Kiki’s phone rings. She checks her voicemail and looks upset. She tells Dillon that it’s about Morgan. Her mother was arrested for his murder.

Ava can’t believe Julian is leaving her high and dry. Scotty says he can’t believe Julian hung up on him after he got him acquitted, and Ava says she was the one who did all the work. Scotty pours something from his flask into a cup for her. He isn’t sure she can work her magic on the new DA like she did with Paul – he doesn’t think Ava is her cup of tea – but who knows? He wants to know what’s going on with Julian, but Ava has no idea. She says she could be going down for something she didn’t do – unless she goes down for something she did do. She wonders if she should tell the cops about the pill switch. Scotty thinks that’s nuts, but she says it would be a lesser charge.

Dante and Lulu step away from the table to discuss something about the custody case. Maxie tells Nathan that this is why she can’t tell Lulu she was fired. She’d just add fuel to the fire. Nathan calls Nina over.

Anna sneaks into Wyndemere, and deactivates the alarm. Her headache is getting worse, and she sits on the floor. She looks around, and takes a tiny recording device out of her bag. She wonders aloud where she’s going to put it.

Kiki and Dillon go to the station. Jordan takes Kiki to see Ava. Ava says she didn’t do this, and wasn’t involved in the bomb planting. She says she’s not going to put a bomb in her brother’s car, and no one knew Morgan would get into it. Kiki says she wants to believe her, but she kept hearing Ava’s voice in her head, trying to break her and Morgan up, and asks what else Ava did. Ava swears she had no part in it, and begs Kiki to please believe that. Kiki says if she finds out Ava did anything to Morgan, it will be the end for them. She’ll lose Kiki forever.

In the hallway, Dante tells Lulu that the custody trial is next week. Diane also told him that Valentin’s lawyer has never lost a case in family court.

Nina wishes Maxie and Nathan a happy Valentine’s Day. Nathan says they’re all family now, and hopes she and Maxie can mend fences and get back to business together. Nina says that Maxie allowed Lulu to traumatize Charlotte a second time. Her actions were thoughtless and negligent, and that’s why she was fired. You can hardly blame Nina for not trusting Maxie now.

Grace is in town for conference. She tells Curtis that the last thing she wants to talk about is business. She says maybe they could have some fun like they used to back in the day. She pulls a plastic bag of coke out of her purse, and Curtis says no thanks; he’s been clean for six years. Grace says she only does it occasionally, and asks if he’s going to preach, but Curtis says, not him. She says she likes a domesticated man, and asks if he has kids and mini-van. He says no kids, and he was never the mini-van type. He tells her he wants to take her somewhere.

On her way out, Kiki tells Scotty that Ava could use him. Dillon asks if Kiki needs anything, and she says she just wants to leave.

Anna looks around with a flashlight. She hears Valentin coming in. He picks up the ring box and leaves again. Anna comes out from her terrible hiding place behind the couch, and starts to plant the bug. Valentin comes out from another door, saying she’s gotten sloppy and he expected more from her.

Jordan comes into the bar, and Andre gets up to leave. He says he was remembering their date last year, and they start to chat. Curtis sees them. Andre says he wishes she’d said something. Jordan says it’s not like that, and Andre says it never is. He is such a baby.

Lulu tells Maxie that they have to cut things short. They have a trial date, and have to start prepping. Maxie wants to talk to Lulu, so the guys give them privacy. Maxie says she has a confession. She wasn’t completely honest that everything is okay; Nina fired her. Lulu says it’s her fault. Maxie tells her not to blame herself. Lulu says they’re in to together. Maxie says that when Lulu gets her daughter back, she’ll be there to welcome her home.

Kiki says she doesn’t think they’ll ever get past Morgan, but Dillon says this isn’t about Morgan. She says she wants to believe Ava, and the thought of her mother being involved destroys her. She tells Dillon that he should go, and he asks why she keeps pushing him away. He says he’s the son of a serial killer, and if anyone understands, it’s him, and he’s not going anywhere. He’s in this every step of the way.

Valentin asks if Anna is bugging his home and what she’s looking for. He tells her that he has nothing to hide. Anna asks why he left the WSB, and what she did to him. He says she’s always been good at getting people to believe what she says, but he’s not buying the act. Anna asks why she wanted him dead, and he says because he trusted her. She asks what happened between them, and collapses.

Maxie tells Nathan he was right about Lulu; his sister, not so much. She says Port Charles isn’t exactly teeming with fashion publications. Nathan suggests that they could move. He says he’d follow her anywhere, and whatever she sets her mind to do, she’ll be great, and he’ll be there. They kiss.

Lulu and Dante bask in the afterglow, and Dante says he likes prepping for a trial. Lulu says she’s worried, but he says after everything they’ve been through, they’re still okay. He says they’ll get through this too. They get busy again.

Scotty tells Ava that he’ll have her out no later than tomorrow. She says it’s not like she can go back to her life. Sonny is going to kill her. Scotty asks if she’s suggesting what he thinks she’s suggesting, and she says for the time being, she’s safer where she is.

Kiki backs away, and Dillon says he’ll give her space, but not to be afraid of letting him in any time, day or night; he’ll be there for her. She asks him to stay, and they start kissing.

Curtis sits at a table. He and Jordan smile at one another, and Jordan starts to come toward him. Grace walks in, and Jordan leaves.

Nina calls Valentin, leaving a message that she’s wondering where he is, and hopes nothing is wrong with Charlotte.

Valentin takes Anna’s pulse, and begs her to wake up. He says he’ll get help, and carries her out the door.

Tomorrow, Dillon asks Kiki if she’s sure, Laura tells Tracy to shut up, and Griff asks Valentin what he did to Anna.

🌟 Star continues to shine! Tonight we were treated to a wonderful rendition of TLC’s Waterfalls. I forgot how much I like that song. And Naomi Campbell slapping Queen Latifah? There are people who would pay big money for that treatment. We were also graced with a rap number by the Queen, and excellent hairdos abounded.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nina tells Anna that everyone thinks Valentin is a monster, but nothing could be further from the truth. They just want to be left alone to live their lives, and Anna was intrusive at the restaurant. Anna says her problems with Valentin have nothing to do with Nina. Nina asks why she’s obsessed with Valentin, and Anna says Valentin is the one obsessed with her. I’ve always liked Anna, but she’s starting to irritate me. If it has nothing to do with Nina, why not approach Valentin when he’s alone? And if he’s obsessed with her, why is she the one chasing him around?

Lulu suggests to Valentin that they hash things out sans lawyers.

Nell hopes when the time comes for her to finish the job, she has the strength. For you, she says, looking up at the sky, and reminding me of Trashcan Man from The Stand. Michael comes by.

Julian is at the hospital for physical therapy. He tells Griff that a few more sessions, and he’ll be out of there. Griff says, and hopefully, out of their lives.

Carly and Bobbie go to Sonny’s place and find an officer putting handcuffs on him.

Nell asks Michael if he’s jogging, but he says he’s running – from Tracy, who wants to involve him in a new business venture. He wonders what Nell has on her mind, since she’s sitting alone in a freezing park. She says today is the anniversary of her father’s death. Michael says he lost a father too – AJ – and it doesn’t always bring back the best memories. Nell says that remembering her dad is complicated, but one of the good memories she has is looking up at the stars with him. She shows Michael her dad’s favorite star, Orion. She thought that as long as she could see it, they were connected, because he could see it too. Michael says Orion was the hunter, and talks about Greek mythology. He says Orion nearly killed all the animals in the world to quench his blood lust, but adds that her father probably didn’t know that. Nell says she has to go, and Michael apologizes for intruding. He tells Nell that Carly told him she’s seeing someone else.

Sonny says he made arrangements for transport to the hospital. An old injury has flared up. Carly offers to come, but he says no. When they leave, she tells Bobbie that she thinks something else is going on.

Sam sees Julian at the hospital. She asks what he’s done and why.

Bobbie and Carly go through photo albums; they’re making a family tree for Josslyn. Carly talks about the family she lived with growing up, and how unfair she was to them. Bobbie says she was a teenager. Carly says not many teenagers change their name, drive up the coast, and ruin their biological mother’s life. Bobbie wonders how it would have been if she’d kept Carly, and Carly says she did the best she could even if she wasn’t so understanding in the beginning. She says they’ve come a long way since then, but she wouldn’t change anything because they have a great relationship now. Carly tells Bobbie that Nell is picking stuff up for the copy place. She wonders why Bobbie doesn’t like Nell. Bobbie says it takes a lot to earn her trust, but not much to lose it.

Nell says she should have told Michael. Michael says that Carly told him that her boyfriend was married, and she tells him that she never said that to Carly. Truth! She says he’s older than she is. It’s too weird to call him her boyfriend, and lover or partner sounds too serious. He’s the kind of guy who doesn’t want to be tied down, which is fine with her. She says it’s casual, more like an arrangement than a relationship. It’s all she wants right now, and it works for her. Nell says she has to pick something up from Sonny’s, and Michael says he’ll give her a ride – just as friends.

Sonny talks to Griff while Sam lambastes Julian. Sonny asks Sam if Jason is okay, and Sam says he is, no thanks to Julian. Sonny asks Griff if he could see Jason, telling him that technically the exam isn’t over, since they have to wait for the X-rays. Sam says that Sonny might be able to talk Jason into staying put. Sonny gives Griff his word that he won’t do anything stupid. Julian says he doesn’t want to see Jason hurt, but Sam is skeptical.

Lulu tells Valentin she had the best of intentions and deeply regrets it. Valentin says he does too. Lulu says she saw how Charlotte reacted, like he was the only safe place in the world, and she has to admit Charlotte needs him. She says the sight of him disgusts her, but after a lot of soul searching, she’s willing to take him up on joint custody. That last part didn’t present her case very well.

Nina is like, yeah, right, and asks if that’s why Anna keeps seeking Valentin out, because he’s obsessed with her? She says she might not speak Latin, but she knows a woman with an agenda. She tells Anna she knows that they went to the WSB together, which Anna obviously wanted her to ask him about. She says Anna didn’t come to reminisce about old times, but to harass them. Nina sees Valentin’s old picture on the laptop.

Valentin reminds Lulu that she petitioned the court for full custody. She says she wants to compromise for Charlotte’s sake. Her only stipulation is that they all, including Dante and Nina, attend family counseling. Valentin says he declines, and his original offer is rescinded. Ha-ha on Lulu.

Nina realizes that the photo was taken at the WSB. Anna says he went by a different name then. Nina says that Valentin told her they were friends until he tried to kiss her, and she was disgusted by him. Anna says it isn’t quite like that. Nina says she radiates guilt. She says Anna was probably just as beautiful back then, and Valentin was smart, so she strung him along to get help with her studies. She says Anna is ashamed, and can’t admit that she’s shallow, thoughtless, and cruel. Valentin makes her uncomfortable because he sees the Anna who’s not so beautiful after all. Anna cries silently, and Nina walks out. Score a huge one for Nina. By Anna’s reaction, I’d say she’s right on the money.

Nell thanks Michael for not judging. He says if he judged everyone, he’d be very lonely, and besides, they’re friends. He wants her to be happy, and she wouldn’t be in her arrangement if it didn’t make her happy.

Michael and Nell find Bobbie and Carly at Sonny’s. Michael asks who’s holding Carly in her baby picture. She tells him that it’s Frank Benson, her adopted father. Michael says she never talks about him, and she says he left them in the dust when she was little, and she got the impression that he’s a sad, bitter man.

Sam and Sonny talk to Jason. Loudly. Sonny tells Jason that Sam thinks Julian had something to do with it, but Jason says he doesn’t think so because there’s no case. He’s out. In the hallway, Julian listens in. Sonny says he isn’t comfortable talking in front of Sam. Sam says she’d never ask Jason to give up his work. Jason says they’re chasing shadows and it’s not worth it. He says he’s not sacrificing his family.

Michael says that he’s sorry Carly’s childhood was painful, but she says everything is good now. Nell asks if she ever followed up on her adoptive family. Carly says that Frank was useless, but her mother died after Michael was born. She talks about Virginia’s funeral, and how they went to the beach afterward. She tells Michael about Jason taking him into the ocean there when he was 4 months old. She asks Nell to wait while she gets some pictures from the attic. They all go upstairs, leaving Nell by herself. She looks at the baby picture where Carly is holding the silver rattle. Bobbie comes back in and asks if everything is okay.

Nell says she’s fine. Bobbie asks if she’s sure, since she seems troubled. She asks if something about the photo is bothering her. Nell raises her voice, telling Bobbie to back off. Bobbie talks about a cat her Aunt Ruby had, and when it was cornered, it would attack. Carly and Michael come back in. Nell says she’ll drop the pictures off and pick them up in the morning. She’s obviously upset, and after she leaves, Carly asks Bobbie what she did. Michael says Nell has been thinking a lot about her family today. He tells Carly that they patched things up and are still good friends. Bobbie asks as opposed to what, and Michael tells her that they went out a couple of times and he thought it would be something more, but she’s dating an older guy.

Sonny asks if Jason is turning his back on him. An intern tells Julian that it’s time for his therapy. When he’s gone, Sam tells them they’re better liars than she gave them credit for. She hopes Julian bought it, because the only way they can keep going is for Julian’s boss to think they’ve given up.

Lulu tells Valentin that he kept her daughter from her. He says he had his reasons, and he was right, since the first thing she did was hurt Charlotte. He says Lulu doesn’t care about Charlotte’s needs, only herself. Nina comes in and asks what’s going on. Lulu says to ask Valentine. She says he’s spoiling for a fight, but when it’s the Cassadines against the Spencers, the Spencers always win. Lulu leaves, and Valentin asks Nina how her errand was. She says it wasn’t exactly an errand; she went to meet someone.

Anna’s headache is even worse now. She looks at Valentin’s records and how he got an A in everything. She tries looking at his assignment folder and is denied access.

Bobbie asks Michael if Nell said who the boyfriend is, and Carly says it’s none of their business. Bobbie decides to go home and look for some other albums. On the porch, she calls someone, saying she needs a favor and asks for information about Nell.

Michael tells Carly that he was lucky as a child, since he never doubted how much they loved him. Carly says they still love him. He says he’s sorry she didn’t have that, but she says it all worked out. She’s proud of the family and the life she’s built for herself.

Nell talks to herself. She says she thought about letting it go and building something new with Michael, but it’s a fantasy, since she could never be completely honest. She remembers the promise she made. Hearing Carly talk about her so-called accomplishments and past, she deserves to have the world come crashing down on her.

Sonny tells Jason and Sam to keep him posted. Sam thanks him, and he goes back out to where Griff is. Griff says his back is fine, better than anyone could have hoped. Griff wonders whether his pain is psychosomatic or he was just made part of something he’s not too happy about. Sonny says he feels better already.

On the phone, Justin tells Olivia J. that she’s done something no one else could – scare Jason Morgan.

Sam tells Jason she’ll be glad when this is over and they can just be a family again. Jason says yeah, but he doesn’t sound believable. I think he’s enjoying being on the edge of the business again.

Nina tells Valentin that she visited Anna. He says she didn’t need to do that, and Nina says she did. She doesn’t care what Anna thinks of him. She tells him that she saw the picture of what he looked like before. Valentin looks startled and uneasy, and says it’s unfortunate. He says he tried to warn her, and can’t imagine what she thinks. She says she’s glad she saw Anna, but not for the reasons he thinks, and she’s glad she saw the picture. She needed to understand his strength courage, and what it took for him to remake himself. She admires him. She tells him that the only thing he’ll ever see in her face is how much he means to her. They kiss. I’m not usually into the romance parts, but this one is good. Like Beauty and the Beast, or Quasimodo, if he became really good-looking and super rich.

Anna calls the WSB, saying she needs access to a restricted file. She explains who she is and starts to give her access code. She says, what do you mean file doesn’t exist? She sits back down at the computer, and the screen suddenly goes blank.

Tomorrow, Alexis asks Julian where he’s going, Jason says he can’t do this, and Jordan talks to Andre. Sorry that doesn’t sound more exciting, but the preview was mostly startled faces.

🌟 A Star mention. One of the things I love about this show is that they’re honest in depicting how bigotry runs both ways. It is amazing though, how singers don’t need microphones and invisible bands play in the background. (Star, it’s just like Glee!) Tonight, we found out that Queen Latifah’s daughter was born her son (played by transwoman Amiyah Scott). Porsha from The Real Housewives of Atlanta also made a guest appearance as the MC for a charity benefit. Either the character of Star or Jude Demorest is what I call a mic tapper though – a singer who constantly taps their fingers on the mic while they sing. I always find this distracting, and wonder why no one ever tells them to knock it off. Benjamin Bratt continues to have high anxiety and bear the brunt of the girls’ mistakes. While there’s a lot of fluff to enjoy – the costumes are phenomenal – the characters seem real and serious subjects are tackled. If this sticks around, I’m in it for the long haul.

🌇 Girlfriends’ Guide is still making me laugh. Like Sex in the City for pragmatist grown-ups, while the situations are exaggerated, they’re also relatable. The characters are flawed, yet sympathetic, and I also like the whole women/friendship thing.

January 25, 2017 – Searching for Franco & Random Thoughts

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Curtis tells Jordan that she’s thinking the same thing he’s thinking, and kisses her. They move their kissing to the bed.

Dillon meets Kiki, who says they need his help.

Sam tells Elizabeth that they have to find Franco now. She wants to trace his steps before he disappeared. Elizabeth is puzzled, and asks if Sam talked to Alexis, saying that Sam practically laughed in her face before. Even though Sam doesn’t admit it, Elizabeth can tell she talked to her mother, and asks what Alexis said.

Julian asks Alexis how much of the truth she told Sam. She says she’s the one asking the questions, and wants to know if he did something to Franco.

Franco writes a note asking whoever finds it to contact Elizabeth, but the light keeps going on and off. He slips the note under the door, hoping a good Samaritan will come by.  Where the blip is he?

Jason gets up from the table and falls over. Methinks something was slipped into his coffee. The server yells for someone to call 911, and Tracy runs over and shakes Jason. She asks if he can hear her, and says he’s burning up. He says he’s fine, but she tells him that he just collapsed. She says to wait for the paramedics and suggests calling Sam, but he says no.

Sam tells Elizabeth that they should concentrate on finding Franco. Elizabeth says Sam is still hoping he’s the guilty party.

Kiki fills Dillon in on the Franco situation, and gives him the phone. She says she called around to see if it could be fixed, but every place she called was negative, and just tried to sell her a new phone. Obviously, someone besides me has had a problem with pushy salespeople, since this is the second time they’ve mentioned that. Dillon has an idea. He has a dehumidifier for high tech equipment, and wants to use it to dry out the phone.  He’s not making any promises, but thinks it’s worth a shot.

Alexis reminds Julian that he said he’d do anything to help her. She tells him that Franco has the picture of her and Tom at the bar. Julian doesn’t think anyone would believe him, but Alexis says this time Franco might be right, and if he were to disappear, the police would probably consider the case closed. She asks him where Franco is, but he says he doesn’t know. She asks how she can believe he’s telling her the truth, and he says she can’t.

Franco walks around to keep warm. He talks about food, a cheeseburger and curly fries. He wonders if someone is coming back to finish the job, and looks for a weapon. Well, there are quite a few lamps around; a broken light bulb or a cord might be good. After living in NYC for twenty years, I always know where the closest weapon is. He digs into a box, but it’s only Tupperware. The next box contains trophies. I would think one of those would make pretty good weapon. You could certainly poke somebody’s eye out. Looking at them, he says whoever locked him in there is good at peewee basketball. He picks a trophy out, and uses it to batter the doorknob, but has no luck. Some of the boxes fall on him, and he’s knocked out on the floor again.

Curtis and Jordan start to get busy. She asks what they’re doing, and he wonders if he has to explain. Ha-ha! She tells him it’s wrong. Curtis says what’s been going on between them has been going on for a while, and she needs to be honest. They both felt something strong and passionate, way back when she tried to slap him in the interrogation room. She doesn’t disagree.

Jason is in the hospital, and tells Monica not to call Sam. Monica promises that whatever’s wrong, they’ll fix it.

Julian says unfortunately, Alexis won’t believe anything from him now, and what they had once is gone. Alexis says it’s vanished, and the trust was just an illusion; she was duped by him the entire time. He’s only there because he’s blackmailing her, and she’ll never be taken in by him again. He says he’s telling the truth, and has always put her welfare first, despite how it’s seemed. He says there’s no way to prove it, and things are just what they are. A variation on, it is what it is. He has to go, but it’s not about Franco, and that’s all he’s saying. He tells her not to reach for a drink, but she says it’s taken her this long to get this far. Yeah, a whole two days. He tells her not to go snooping around about Franco. The second he’s gone, she looks up Elizabeth’s number on her phone.

Elizabeth doesn’t want to share much because Sam wants Franco to be guilty. Sam says there’s a warrant out for his arrest, but Elizabeth says Sam obviously has her own agenda.

Monica hopes the bloodwork will give them some answers. Tracy says that Jason was on the floor when she arrived, and she has no clue what happened.

Dillon goes to an indoor storage unit. Across the hall from where Franco is. (Ah-ha!) His note is lying on the floor – a floor that is completely bare and clean except for this yellow sheet of paper – but they don’t see it. More boxes fall, and Dillon asks if Kiki heard something, but she says no. Dillon makes a call to a friend, explaining that they’re looking for someone who disappeared, and asks about rebooting the phone if they’re able to dry it out. He wants to write down the instructions, and Kiki picks up Franco’s note to write on. It’s folded in half, but she doesn’t bother opening it to see what it is. This kind of stuff drives me nuts.

Dillon gives Kiki the instructions. He looks over what she’s written, and we can totally see through the paper to Franco’s writing. Dillon tells Kiki it’s worth a shot, and she says it’s not like they have other leads. Dillon goes into the unit to get the dehumidifier.

Jordan tells Curtis that she’s with Andre, but Curtis says deep down, she trusts him more. Andre didn’t want her to come to Baltimore with him, but she’s here. She says she’s just there because of the case. She says she was going through a confusing time, and he needs to get over himself.

Sam says that she’ll pursue this with or without Elizabeth, and asks if she’s on board or not. Elizabeth says she knows that Sam has an ugly history with Franco and legitimate reasons to hate him, but she can’t let the past influence how she treats him in this investigation. Sam says she can’t make any promises, and goes over what Franco did to her, saying she only has his word that he didn’t really rape her. Elizabeth says she’s sorry it happened. She understands, because that’s how she feels about Tom, but they have to agree that they’re looking for the truth. Sam is okay with that, as long as Elizabeth is good with whatever they find. They sit, and Elizabeth tells Sam how she found Franco’s phone. She says it had blood on it and it was wet, and Kiki is trying to dry it out.

Elizabeth calls Kiki, and Kiki tells her what she and Dillon are doing. She says she’ll meet Elizabeth at the bar. Dillon and Kiki leave the storage place. Franco hears voices, but can’t function enough to respond.

Monica tells Tracy that Jason’s fever is down and it seems like whatever he has isn’t life threatening. Tracy asks if she’s calling Sam, but Monica wants to wait on that in case it’s contagious. Tracy says she talked to the server. All Jason had was coffee, and he was fine until he collapsed. Monica wonders what brought this on so quickly. I’m a little surprised the server didn’t mention that Jason had company at the table for a while.

Julian is at Jason’s bedside. Jason asks if he’s there to see the results of his work.

Kiki arrives at the bar, and tells Elizabeth that they got the phone dried out. She wonders why Sam is there. She puts two and two together, and asks if the woman Franco suspects is someone she knows.

Alexis’s doorbell rings. It’s Diane. She says Alexis has a meeting with the bar committee tonight, and she’s there for last minute prep. She has Alexis’s statement, and has made some tweaks. She suggests they hammer out any changes. She asks Alexis if something is wrong, and Alexis says she’s just nervous. Diane has an incentive – she’s brought a bottle of wine for when they celebrate. Great.

Jason asks Julian what he slipped in the coffee. Julian says the same thing he gave himself to extend his hospital stay. He tells Jason that Winston was responsible for the car bomb. He was the intended target and Morgan was collateral damage. There was no doubt it would be pinned on Sonny, getting rid of them both. He says that now they don’t just want him and Sonny gone, but Jason and Curtis are also in jeopardy. They’ve been asking too many questions, and people could die. If he keeps going the way he’s going, Sam and his unborn child are at risk.

Sam tells Kiki that she just wants the truth, and Elizabeth says it’s cool. Dillon explains how he dried out the phone. They try to reactivate it. It starts to work, and Elizabeth grabs it.

Jordan tells Curtis his ego is out of whack and always has been. She says she may have felt something physical for him, but she was only attracted to him in that moment, and it means nothing. He says what about this moment; how is she going to explain that to herself?

Alexis tells Diane that the changes she made are astute. Diane says Alexis is an incredible lawyer, and Port Charles needs her expertise. Alexis doesn’t think she’ll practice law again, but Diane says she just has a case of stage fright. She tells Alexis to look at the committee as a jury, except she’s pleading her own case. Alexis thanks Diane for always being on her side. Diane says in a few hours, they’ll be toasting her victory.

The phone is locked. Sam says she’ll call Spinelli, but Elizabeth gets the phone open with JAKE. Dillon tells her how to retrieve the last message. All the messages they find are from Kiki and Elizabeth.

Franco finally gets himself up from the floor. He says some psycho is going to come back and kill him unless he figures something out.

Jason asks if Julian is threatening his family, but Julian says they’re on the same side. He was only getting Jason out of harm’s way. He says the bottom line is that he wants to turn the tables and get rid of them, but he needs Jason’s help. Jason asks who Winston is working for, and why they want him dead.

Jordan tells Curtis they’re here on business, and they’re going to convince Buzz to come back to Port Charles. She tells him again that she’s with Andre, and he says good luck with that. I wonder if he means the same thing I do when I say that – that all the luck in the world isn’t going to help you.

Alexis eyeballs the bottle of wine and puts it in the cupboard. She pretends to get ready, but we know she’s still thinking about it. She takes it back out and gets a glass. Her hand hovers over it with the opener for a second, but then she opens the bottle. No, Alexis! Don’t do it!

Julian asks Jason if he’ll agree to work with him. Jason says he’ll never trust him, but Julian says he doesn’t have a choice, because their lives and the lives of those they love depend on him doing the right thing.

Kiki thinks they’re wasting time. Dillon says Franco could have left on his own or someone took him. He’s brilliant! Sign that guy up for detective work.

Franco wonders how many boxes of useless crap there are. He finds more trophies. He finds one that he’s seen before.

Tomorrow, Carly tells Sonny that she knows something is wrong, Lulu talks to Doc and Laura, and Elizabeth suggests calling the police.

🌟 The girls from Star continue to soar, and are on to the next round of the talent contest. Benjamin Bratt continues to get the short end of the stick, and Queen Latifah continues to be awesome and have amazing hairdos.

☎ So much good TV, too little time, and I continue to chase around Too Close to Home. I either forget it’s on or there’s a conflict. (This should be my worst problem.) It’s worth hunting down for Heather Locklear’s wickedness alone, but the story is really good. And of course there’s Brody.

🗽 What happened to Little Women of New York (plus Jason)? I just can’t get into Atlanta, and Dallas seemed like just more of the same, even including some Atlanta girls who moved.

📍 Speaking of Atlanta, this doesn’t happen often, but my hat’s off to Phaedra from The Real Housewives of Atlanta for setting up a camp where the children from Flint, Michigan can go free of charge. She did this after the water crisis there. Portia continues to be ridiculous in looking for a baby daddy, and the more I see her, the more I like Kenya Moore.

💃 Quote from Cyndi Lauper when she was on Watch What Happens Live: Yelling jacks people up, but doesn’t do anything to show your humanity and doesn’t open someone else’s mind. I’m paraphrasing, but close enough. The discussion was about the…um…exchange of ideas that’s been going on lately. Personally, I’d love less shouting. I ditched Little Women of Atlanta over it, but I can’t exactly ditch the world.

General Hospital

Not wanting to break a streak, the President’s final press conference was on at 3 p.m. I kept flipping back to see if it was over, and got excited for a millisecond when I saw Dante and Lulu. But then, Olivia came in saying, “Happy Thanksgiving,” and I realized that I was in rerunland. Here’s hoping the new administration are a bunch of early risers who hate The View more than GH.

I’m pretty certain that the rest of the week might be a bust too, with the inauguration happening and all.

So here’s a puppy picture.

☕ I did watch Star, which it looks like they’re also rerunning on Saturday nights. The casting is genius on this show. I was loving Miss Lawrence tonight, as well as some blue lipstick. Poor Benjamin Bratt though. He has to do all the grunt work.

👓 Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce – or is it Girlfriends’ Guide to Freedom now? or just Girlfriends’ Guide? – was also on the roster. I have the feeling that Abby is going to be sleeping with her son’s baseball coach within the next few episodes.

Game of Thrones might possibly follow their last season with a prequel. I didn’t think HBO would let go of something that makes so much money.

💀 American Horror Story has been renewed for three more seasons. Supposedly, some of the Freak Show characters will be back for the next one. That’s been my favorite season so far, so my interest is already piqued.

Nell asks Sonny what he means by “a new understanding.” He says they agreed not to say anything about what happened between them. He asks if she changed her mind, and why she told Carly she was dating a married man. Nell says she didn’t; she just said he was unavailable, and Carly made the assumption. He wonders why she wouldn’t say good-by in person, but she says it doesn’t matter, she turned around in Detroit. When Franco asks why, she says Dillon, confusing him. He thought that’s why she left, and Kiki says he’s also the reason she came back. She explains that Dillon was on the bus to get away from her, but now they’re together. She’s decided to stop fighting her feelings for him. Franco says he’s happy for her, and she should do everything to keep herself happy.

Julian suggests that Alexis is going through withdrawal. She says if he wants to talk, let’s do it. He asks if there’s anyone else who can place her at the bar, but she doesn’t remember. He asks if she talked to anyone. She says Gene, the owner, who I assume is also the bartender.

Jason tells Sam that he thinks the picture looks familiar too. Sam says it’s possible it could be Julian. Jason assumes the boss lady has a relationship with him, but adds that the picture is decades old. Sam tells him that she doesn’t think Ava has anything to do with it.

She’s still going to be Nina, but she’ll just be there all the time. Charlotte looks sad at first, but then says it sounds wonderful.

Franco chows down on Chinese leftovers. He says Kiki seems happy. She says she is, and he says then Dillon is okay in his book. She says she’ll never stop missing Morgan, but has to move on with her life. She thinks Morgan would approve, and she’s learned to hold on tight to those she loves, because everything can change in an instant. She asks what’s up with Franco, and he asks if she remembers Tom, and tells her that Tom was murdered.

Alexis tells Julian that Gene remembered the night for her. Julian says obviously he didn’t go to the police with anything. Alexis doesn’t think he cared, but covered for her as a customer. He saw Tom follow her out, and she assumes he caught up with her. Julian says she’s not thinking like a lawyer, and asks if anyone else saw. Alexis sees Tom standing behind Julian. I wonder if he’s buddies with Carrrlos now, although Carrrlos has more honor than this dude.

Sonny asks Nell if she understands what it’s like to feel happy for just a moment, and says that she’s not to say anything else. She says that she was just trying to protect him and shut the conversation down. She didn’t expect Carly to deduce her boyfriend was married. She tells Sonny that none of it is her fault, and Sonny says it never is. Sam and Jason come in, and Sam says she hopes they’re not interrupting.

Nell tells them Carly asked her to check in on Sonny while she’s gone, and Sonny explains that Carly is in Australia. Nell says her work is done and jets. After asking how Sam is, Sonny asks Jason if he’s found out anything else. Jason tells him about the pawn shop burning down, and says they don’t think Julian is involved, but they’re close to finding out who is. Sonny asks if there’s a man behind it, but Jason says no.

Tom talks to Alexis, saying she’s the one who killed him. He tells her she should have a drink.

Franco tells Kiki he had nothing to do with it, but the police think he did. Kiki asks if he has an alibi, but he says his alibi would make things even worse. He tells her that he knows who killed Tom, but can’t go to the police.

Charlotte says she wishes she could have been at the wedding, but Nina says it was past her bedtime. Valentin tells her that it was at the stroke of midnight. Charlotte wonders if it was like Cinderella, and Nina says it was magical, but no one turned into a pumpkin. She says the only thing missing was Charlotte, but Valentin says there was one more thing.

Nathan tells Maxie he wants a moose head in their house, and explains how he always wanted to be one with nature. She tells him if they take the moose head, they’ll also need throw pillows and throws some pillows at him. They get silly, and there’s a knock at the door. It’s a police officer who has information about Claudette.

Kiki asks why Franco is hesitating, and he says it’s complicated. He says he might be innocent of this, but he’s committed other crimes. He says that he’s hurt members of the person’s family who killed Tom. Kiki tells him that knowing what Tom has done, it was probably self-defense. Franco says all he knows is he can’t turn her in, even if it means losing Elizabeth.

Alexis says she’s not going to drink, and Julian says he’ll help her through this. Tom says he’s never going to leave her alone. Alexis says she didn’t kill him; she couldn’t have. Julian tells her that she’s hallucinating. She asks if he doesn’t see Tom. Alexis sees a bloody knife in her own hand, but looks again to find it empty.

Sonny asks Jason if he really thinks a woman planted the bomb. Jason says yes, but any evidence has been burned up. Sonny says he’s glad they got out, and asks if there are any theories. Jason says not yet, but she must have a personal tie to Julian.

Valentin tells Charlotte about how they improvised with ribbon wedding rings. Valentin says when they were skating, he went to the jewelers. He asks Charlotte to help them exchange rings. She opens the box and Valentin tells her to give each of them the other’s ring. Valentin and Nina exchange rings, saying a few things, and then kiss. Charlotte is like, Yay!

The officer tells Nathan sorry it’s late. They found the body of a woman in the river who was an apparent suicide, and reran the prints after speaking with him. They were a match for Claudette’s.

Kiki asks if Elizabeth believes that Franco didn’t kill Tom. He says he thinks she does, but he’s done so many other things, it’s hard for her to trust him. He wanted them to start with a clean slate, and was going to find the real killer, but it looks like he’s remaining the prime suspect. He tells Kiki not to tell anyone, and says maybe they won’t have enough evidence to charge him. She says fine, his secret is safe. She tells him that Elizabeth stopped by.

After the officer leaves, Nathan tells Maxie that he doesn’t believe Claudette would kill herself, even though the prints were a match. Maxie says Claudette is gone, and the important thing is that they know what happened. He says she was a horrible person, and Maxie adds, but he loved her. He says for a few years, he really did.

Valentin gets a call and excuses himself. The officer from Canada says he did what Valentin told him. Valentin thanks him for his assistance.

Sonny thinks the woman is a cover hired by Julian as a smokescreen, and judging by the picture, they have long standing ties. Sam has to excuse herself, and when she goes upstairs, Jason tells Sonny things looked tense between him and Nell. He asks if everything is okay.

Alexis says she didn’t mean to kill him, and Julian tells her to calm down. Alexis tells Julian that if it hadn’t been for him, she would have never been in that bar and killed Tom. She still thinks she’s holding a knife, but there’s nothing in her hand.

Nathan wants to tell Claudette’s mom in person. He also has to call Griff, and someone has to let Charlotte know. Maxie suggests they get some sleep for now.

Valentin, Nina and Charlotte leave the MetroCourt. Carly calls Nell from the plane, and Nell says she’ll take care of everything. She says she’ll make sure to take care of Sonny. I’ll bet.

Sonny tells Jason that everything is fine, but Jason says it didn’t look that way. He says if Sonny is in trouble, he can tell him. Sonny says he’s pretty sure Nell isn’t as innocent as she appears to be.

Kiki tells Franco that Elizabeth told her not to say she came by, but she thought better of it after what he said. Kiki says whatever doubts Elizabeth has, they obviously don’t outweigh her feelings for him. She asks if he’s still going to keep his mouth shut. He says all he knows for sure is that he can’t go to prison.

Alexis stares at the non-knife in her hand, and finally realizes it’s not there. She tells Julian that he’s going to send her to prison and he doesn’t love her. He promises her that he does. He says he knows she’s in pain, and she starts to cry, begging for a drink. He says they’ll get through this. She cries in his arms, saying she needs help.

Tomorrow, Jordan questions Franco, Alexis wants to turn herself in, and Anna talks to Valentin.

Hump Day Quotes

I love cauliflower and I would agree that it’s incredibly versatile, but I’m starting to think that maybe everyone wouldn’t have felt quite as tragically disappointed and jaded by how 2016 shaped up as a year if we hadn’t put so much of our faith in cauliflower to be everything we needed.Darcy Lenz, 11 Food Trends That Need to Die in 2017

If you die when you’re fat, are you a fat ghost?Carrie Fisher, while working out on the treadmill.

💫 Speaking of which, if you haven’t seen Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, you’re missing out. I love documentaries, and this immediately became one of my favorites. I’ve already watched it twice. I’d intended on watching it even before they both passed away, but that definitely added another dimension. Part Grey Gardens, part [fill in the name of your favorite Broadway musical here], with the comedic slant of The Office, this was the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. The mother and daughter team are brilliant and witty, and have given us a totally honest portrayal of themselves. This is what the reality genre ought to be. It’s my understanding that when they first saw the completed film, both Carrie and Debbie were not happy with so intimate of a portrait, but finally allowing its release. I’m sure there are no regrets here. It’s one of the most wonderful legacies ever left.

🌟 Geez, Star took a chance tonight. One of the girls had an accidental overdose, and they did a fantasy video sequence in the psyche ward, using staff and patient characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if some special snowflakes protest that. Maybe by burning some scrubs or kneeling during the opening music of an NPR program.

I have to add that Queen Latifah‘s aqua hair was everything. If I could pull that off, I would wear mine like that every day. I tried to find a picture, but stuff from The Wiz just kept popping up.

🍻 Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is also back. I forget how much I like it until there’s a new season again. (That’s when the network throws a dart at a two-year calendar to decide when a show is returning.) The characters in this show are much more realistic than the ones on Sex and the City. I also hadn’t known that Lisa Edelstein (Abby) was a Club Kid back in the day, until I saw her on Watch What Happens Live. As soon as they mentioned it, I was like, that’s where I know you from.

Bravo has done well so far with their scripted shows. I also love Odd Mom Out, which I assume will come around again after Girlfriends’ Guide is done. That one surprised me. Not being a mom (at least not to two-legged kids), I didn’t think I’d relate, but as someone who lived a lot of their life in NYC, I can totally relate. And it’s funny as hell. As if that wasn’t enough, both programs have fashion to die for. The soundtracks ain’t bad neither.

🗣 I heard the word “shenanigans” twice on TV tonight, from two completely unrelated and surprising sources. Let’s see if shenanigans ends up happening, or goes the route of “fetch.”

January 4, 2017 – Memories Light the Corners of GH & a Few Random Observations

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Andre is going to hypnotize Anna and explains the process to her. He’s going to guide her to where she feels safe enough to remember what her subconscious is holding back, but can’t make her do anything she doesn’t want to. He tells her everything is under her control, and she can stop it at any time.

Valentin talks to Charlotte on the phone, telling her that he has a wonderful surprise. Nina lounges in the bed next to him, caressing the red roses that are strewn about. I don’t care how bad he is, I’m in.

Finn brings Hayden some real food at the hospital (i.e. a hamburger). She’s desperate to go home.

Franco sees Elizabeth. She says hi, and he keeps walking, but runs into a cart. She tells him he doesn’t have to physically stay away from her, but he says he does.

Alexis meets with Diane at the MetroCourt. Diane has already ordered morning Bloody Marys for both of them. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right? Alexis sees the headline about Tom Baker’s murder on Diane’s tablet. She flashes back to seeing him in the dive bar. Diane asks if she’s okay, and she says she’s not.

Alexis points out that Tom was killed on the 21st, and Diane tells her that it doesn’t sound like a great loss. Alexis changes the topic to concentrating on getting her license back. Diane says 2016 was bad for a lot of people, but it’s in the rear-view mirror now. She has great faith in Alexis’s power of persuasion, second only to her own. She says it will all seem like a bad dream soon.

Valentin tells Charlotte he’ll tell her when he gets back, that’s why it’s a surprise. Nina is excited about being with Charlotte, and hopes it will be permanent. She wonders if Charlotte will be as happy as she is about it.

Nathan apologizes to Maxie for the postponement of the wedding. Maxie says no worries, she was a mess. He says he thought she looked beautiful anyway, but she tells him that he’s biased. He tells her that he loves her, and thanks her for being understanding about him still being married to Claudette. He says he’s going to fix it, but Maxie wonders how you can divorce someone who’s vanished into thin air.

Finn says it’s possible Hayden might be released today. She asks if he’s free and clear now too.

Elizabeth tells Franco that he doesn’t have to avoid her. He talks about how it’s obvious she’s unhappy with what he did, but says that she doesn’t want the past hanging over them. Seth storms in, asking why Franco is walking around free when he killed Tom.

Diane tells Alexis to focus on her community involvement and how she’s tried to get her life back on track. Alexis keeps looking at the tablet, and Diane asks her why some miscreant is so important. She tells Diane she has a confession to make, and says she was with Tom the night he was murdered.

Seth asks if Elizabeth is so blinded by her feelings, she doesn’t see who Franco is. Seth gets loud, and Obrecht comes out, asking him what he thinks he’s doing.

Finn tells Hayden his blood work still has to come back. Elizabeth walks in with the test results. Hayden says, speak of the devil, but adds that it’s just an expression.

Maxie looks online, and says Nathan can put something in the paper about divorcing Claudette, and if Claudette doesn’t protest, he can get an automatic divorce. It takes three weeks, which doesn’t thrill Maxie. She says it’s like Claudette exists to ruin their lives. He tells her one way or another, it’s going to happen. She tells him that it would be easier if they could find Claudette.

Valentin tells Nina that Charlotte loves her, but Nina says that’s as a friend. Claudette is the only mother she’s known. Nina says she’s going to support Valentin no matter what, but wonders what will happen when Claudette comes back. Valentin says she won’t.

Andre asks Anna where she is. She’s in the corridor at the WSB. She hears whistling coming from behind a door that has a light coming from under it. She walks toward the door. She opens it. She’s about to step in, and sits up, saying she can’t do it.

Nina asks how Valentin can be sure Claudette isn’t coming back. He says she hasn’t reached out in all this time, and Charlotte isn’t really her daughter; she’s Lulu’s, and Claudette knows that. Nina tells him they’ll present a united front at the hearing, and show that Charlotte will have a stable home. She’s concerned that their spontaneous wedding won’t present the picture of stability they’d like though. She says they don’t even have any pictures. Valentin says he’s a bit of a traditionalist, but they take a selfie showing their ribbon rings. She asks if he found the picture he lost, and he says no, but he’ll always have the memory.

Andre asks if Anna is okay and what she remembered. She says she opened the door, but doesn’t remember anything after that. She asks to be put under again. Andre thinks they should stop for today, but Anna is insistent. He says some part of her isn’t ready, but she says there’s nothing worse than not knowing. She says she’s about to find out the truth, and he has to help her.

Alexis tells Diane that she was at the bar when she ran into Tom. Diane asks what happened after that, but Alexis doesn’t remember. Theme for today: I don’t remember.

Obrecht asks if Seth has any proof that Franco was involved with Tom’s death. He says not yet, but he told the police everything he knows, and there were plenty of witnesses when Franco threatened Tom’s life. He leaves, and Obrecht asks what that was all about. She says she knows he was tracking Tom, but how did Seth know that? And even if he did, why go to the police? Franco says he did more than just stalk Tom.

Finn tells Hayden that her numbers are down. She asks about Finn’s numbers and he won’t say. Elizabeth says his are down too, but I’m guessing that’s only because he’s taking the injections. I’m wondering what the blip happened to Brad making up another dose of the cure.

Maxie suggests to Nathan that they go to Canada and try to track Claudette down. Nina comes in, and tells Maxie that she should be home since she’s sick. A delivery guy brings in some gorgeous white flowers. The card says “to my beautiful bride,” and Maxie says Nathan is sweet, but he tells her that he didn’t send them. Nina says she thinks they’re for her.

Maxie asks whose beautiful bride she is, and Nina says it’s complicated. She tells them about how she and Valentin ended up getting married, using the priest and the chapel when Maxie and Nathan postponed their wedding. Nathan says he’s going to call Diane and get her out of it. Nina says she doesn’t want to get out of it. Nathan insists that Valentin must have coerced her.

Andre hypnotizes Anna again. He wants her to go back to before she noticed the door. She says she was winding her watch.

Elizabeth looks at the test results, and says the drug that Finn is taking is illegal and not widely available. She asks how long he’s been taking it. Hayden explains that he’s not taking it recreationally, but to control the symptoms of the disease, and now he won’t need to take it anymore.

Franco tells Obrecht what he did wasn’t nice, but he didn’t murder Tom. She says there’s only one way to save himself – find out who really killed Tom.

Diane is concerned that Tom might have drugged Alexis or assaulted her, but Alexis says she woke up in her own bed. Diane asks if she remembers anything, and Alexis suggests that maybe nothing memorable happened. Diane tells her that it seems like she’s hiding something, and that has her worried. Alexis says when she saw the article, she remembered seeing Tom. She tells Diane about breaking her promise not to drink, and explains why she ended up at the bar. Diane says not to beat herself up about that, and Alexis thanks her for understanding. Diane thinks the only thing that will make her feel better is to get reinstated. Alexis says she’s been busy dealing with Julian, and amends that to dealing with the Julian fallout when Diane reminds her that she’s not supposed to be around him. Diane tells Alexis not to give the bar association any reason not to reinstate her.

Anna tells Andre that she’s holding the watch when she hears the whistling. Andre tells her to take it slow, remember he’s there, and that nothing can hurt her. She goes toward the door again and opens it.

Nina tells Nathan that she asked Valentin to marry her. Maxie asks if she’s out of her mind, and Nina says it’s the sanest thing she’s done in a long time. She says they’re good together, and it will be good for Charlotte. Maxie says she’s calling Lulu, and Nina tells her that Lulu already knows. Nathan compares it to Nina’s marriage to Ric, and Nina says she’s a different person now, and asks why he can’t respect her decisions. He says she’s only doing this to be a mother to Valentin’s daughter. She says yes, but she wants to be a wife to Valentin too, and wants a family of her own. Nathan asks if they love each other, and she says love is overrated, and they’ll grow to love each other. She wonders what’s so great about love anyway, since her experience with it hasn’t been very good. She says don’t tell her it was a mistake when it’s the smartest thing she’s ever done. Seriously, this might not end well, but Nina is a grown woman who runs a magazine. Nathan needs to quit treating her like she’s infirm and starts respecting her decisions.

Finn says he’ll take Hayden back to Tracy’s, but she thinks they should celebrate along with Roxie. She says they could swing by the pet store for crickets, order room service, and toast to their good fortune. He tells her to get dressed and he’ll be right back. In the hallway, he almost collapses and sits on the floor.

Nina blows Nathan off and takes the flowers into her office. Maxie tells him she left a message for Lulu, and points out what a mess this is. Nathan says he’ll be waiting with a team of lawyers when Nina comes to her senses. He thinks there’s no way it won’t end badly, and they agree to be there for her. Nathan decides to go to Canada and visit Claudette’s mom. Maxie says she’s coming with him.

Nina talks to herself about building a family with Charlotte and Valentin. She’s going to stop dreaming about the child she might have someday, and concentrate on the one she has now.

Valentin whistles as he gets dressed. He deletes Claudette as a contact on his phone.

His whistling turns into the whistling in Anna’s memory. She sees her watch smashed, and sits up. Andre tells her she’s safe. She says she remembered more. She thinks she dropped her watch because it was broken, and the face was stopped 11:05 on October 29, her birthday.

Hayden puts her cactus next to her suitcase. Finn finds some privacy for his injection. He hesitates.

Obrecht says she hopes Elizabeth is happy that Franco wants to prove himself worthy. Elizabeth asks Obrecht if she thinks he won’t do crazy things anymore, and Obrecht asks if she does.

Franco goes to the dive bar. He asks the bartender for a double shot of the truth. He shows the bartender Tom’s picture and asks who he talked to when he was there on the 21st.

Tomorrow, Carly tells Sonny that they should talk, Curtis tells someone to confess, and the bartender tells Alexis that they both know more than they’re saying about the night Tom was murdered.

👒 Little Women: Atlanta premieres tonight. While I give it a look-see once in a while, it’s not on my must see list anymore. Besides the pretty consistent fighting, throwing things, fighting, dumping things on each other, and fighting, I find it hard to take anyone named “Juicy” seriously. It’s bad enough I have to deal with “Plastic” on Little Women: LA.

🎤 Nothing new on Bravo tonight, but Andy Cohen premiered his new clubhouse on Watch What Happens Live last night. Surprise! It looks just like the old one, except a little bigger with double the audience capacity, which is now about 32 people.

🌟 I highly recommend Star, now in its regular time slot on Wednesday nights at 9 pm on FOX. The story is great (three girls trying to make it big in the Atlanta music industry), the casting is fabulous (Queen Latifah, Lenny Kravitz, Benjamin Bratt, et al), and the music – much of it original, with a few old favorites thrown in, like tonight’s Deee-Lite number – rocks. Naomi Campbell just called someone an “insolent hussy,” and it was everything. It makes me desperately want to vogue.
