General Hospital

No surprise lately, I miss the very beginning.

Michael sees Willow in the waiting area at the hospital. She asks why he’s there, and he tells her that he had a board meeting. He asks what’s going on. She says her kids are on a field trip, and while the nurses are giving them a tour, she’s putting smiley faces on their workbooks. She tells him that she could use his help.

Jordan wishes she and Curtis could stay in bed all day. He says nothing short of a natural disaster could keep her away from her office. His offer help still stands. She says she may take him up on it – unofficially. He tells her to take a second look at the evidence. Things too good to be real often are. Statistics show it’s often the husband or boyfriend. In this case, maybe the killer knew the statistics, and is covering his tracks. Jordan says it occurred to her too, but she can’t find anything to exonerate Griff, and he has no alibi. She says she’s wasting their morning in bed talking about the case, when they should be basking in the joys of married life. He says they can pretend they’re in Fiji, and she says, things are getting hot.

Alexis meets Sam at Kelly’s. Sam asks about Griff, and Alexis says he’s still a suspect. She’s going to the arraignment with him this morning. Sam thinks she has something to prove he’s innocent.

Griff is led to the interrogation room by Chase. Griff says he hasn’t slept. He was so excited about the hospital board’s decision; he wishes he’d waited to go there. He tells Chase that they’re wasting time while the real killer is still out there.

Laura goes to not-Doc’s office. She needs to talk to him. He doesn’t want to see her; he has nothing more say. She tells him she’s not there to talk to her husband. She’s there to talk to a psychiatrist.

Anna tries teaching Finn how to samba. He ask how long before Obrecht arrives. Anna says it’s one thing to figure out she was there, and another getting her to meet them. They dance. Finn says, there she is! Anna is like, where? and he says, just kidding. He twirls her. I already knew she was a dancer, but he’s pretty good too.

Michael tells Willow that he’d love to help. What does she need? She tells him that he gave her defective seeds; they refused to grow. She says she can’t blame him. It’s probably her. Growing things wilt when she passes. He asks, what about her kids? She helps them thrive. The seeds probably need more time, moisture, and patience. His great grandmother loved her garden. She was known for her roses. Willow ask if he gardened with her, and he says, in a way. She was already in a wheelchair when they met, but they would take tours, and she would talk to the gardeners. She had a natural instinct for nurturing. He thinks Willow does too. He owes her for helping him get through the last group session. He wasn’t planning on speaking, and was nervous. He saw a friendly face – hers – and the next thing he knew, he was talking about Jonah. He can say Jonah’s name now, and how it felt to see him for the first and last time. It’s an incredible relief to say it. He thanks her.

Not-Doc says Laura knows he can’t treat her. She says she wouldn’t ask that. She’s there about Aiden, and Charlotte is involved. He says he’s not a child psychologist. She’s well aware of that, but was hoping he could refer someone. He says there’s a staff directory, but she was hoping for a personal recommendation; some actual input. He tells her to have Elizabeth call him, and he’ll see what he can do. He asks if there’s anything else, and she says there is. It’s about his new girlfriend.

Chase gives Griff some coffee, and asks if he’s willing to answer more questions. Griff says he has nothing to hide. The sooner they eliminate him as a suspect, the sooner they’ll find the real killer. Chase asks if he and Kiki were together the night before Halloween. Griff says they were. They met Sasha at the MetroCourt. They crossed paths with Ava, and things got tense, then they met Sasha. After that, he spent the night at Kiki’s. Chase says, so Kiki is the only person who can verify he was there, and Griff asks what he’s implying. Chase asks what about Halloween, and Griff says h was at the benefit at The Floating Rib. Chase asks if he was there when Mary Pat’s severed head was discovered, but Griff says he’d left already. Chase wonders if he had time to leave something at the gallery. Griff asks if Chase is suggesting he had something to do with Mary Pat’s murder. Chase says, he’s not suggesting anything; Griff just did.

Sam tells Alexis, the way to counter circumstantial evidence is an airtight alibi. Alexis says Griff had enough time to commit the murder, and has no alibi. Sam says she can prove the premise is impossible. A friend of hers with special skills accessed his Cloud account. Alexis says, tell Spinelli thanks, but they’ve already done that, and there’s still no alibi. Sam says Griff’s phone holds more than texts and calls. It holds evidence that will set him free.

Finn says this is more his speed, and puts on slower music. They dance. Anna says it’s like at the wedding. Jordan and Curtis seemed so happy, and Peter and Maxie dancing; it was a good thing. Anything was possible that night, if Kiki hadn’t been found in their bed. Now Griff is being blamed. Why did a beautiful moment turn to tragedy. He wishes this moment could last longer. We hear Obrecht asking if Rodrigo is there. She feels a samba coming on. Finn asks if she’s there to dance.

Willow tells Michael that, although she’d like to take credit for his breakthrough, all she did was sit there and listen. Michael says when he felt he was about to stumble over his words, he looked at her. She looked so compassionate, and like she understood what he’s going through. She says, losing a child is unimaginable, especially a newborn. All the planning, the hopes and dreams for a family, and the person they would grow into is gone in an instant. What could be worse than that? Michael says she gets it, and she says when he was describing his loss, she thought about how alone he was, and it made her wonder about Jonah’s mother. She must be grieving too. 1) I think Willow also lost a child, and 2) she apparently doesn’t read the newspaper or watch TV.

Curtis joins Sam, who tells him that she’s sorry she couldn’t make it. They hug, and he says he appreciates the case. He needs to work, and stay busy. She says, while his wife trying to solve Kiki’s murder. Curtis says he’s sorry for her loss. Jordan is determined to solve the case as quickly as possible. Sam says looking at Griff is wrong, but he’ll hear about it soon enough. If it’s a case he’s looking for, she has one. He asks who the client is, and Sam says he’s looking at her.

Chase shows Griff the evidence bag with the wallet, and asks if he recognizes it. Griff says he thinks it’s Kiki’s. Chase says it was found in his apartment with her blood on it. Griff says, like the knife, the killer must have planted it. Chase says, back to Halloween. Mary Pat was a nurse. He was a doctor, until Ava blew the whistle on his career. Griff says, that’s Chase’s theory? He killed a nurse he never met; put the corpse in the gallery to get back at Ava; then killed her daughter, who he was falling in love with, to twist the knife. Jordan walks in, saying it’s a poor choice of words. Alexis comes in behind her, telling them she’s there to escort Griff to court. As his attorney, she’s entitled to see all the evidence. She wants Griff’s phone – now.

Laura tells not-Doc, no matter how she feels about Ava, she has compassion and empathy for her horrific loss. She asks him to give Ava her sympathy and that she’s sorry. Not-Doc says she’s very kind and gracious. He’s always believed she’s the heart of the town. That’s why he believes she’ll make a wonderful mayor. Laura says, if she’s elected, she’ll do her best. However, the thing she wants most isn’t to be elected, but have the people she loves around her. She starts to leave, and he tells her to wait. He picks up an envelope, saying he was going to have it delivered, but maybe this is the best this way; open and honest, as she deserves. She papers out of the envelope, and reads, petition for the dissolution of marriage.

Obrecht says Anna wasted her time and resources with this ambush. Or is it just an excuse for a vacation with her sweetheart? Anna says she came to take Obrecht back. Obrecht says Anna wasted her time; she’s not leaving. She asks where Rodrigo is, and Finn says her samba will have to wait. Why is she in Cuba, when she should be tending to her daughter? Anna asks why she’s taking dance classes, when she should be in jail for trying to kill Peter? Obrecht reminds Anna that there’s no extradition treaty in Cuba. Anna says she’s not there to bring Obrecht to justice. She’s trying to save Britt’s life. Obrecht says at least she kept track of her children. Anna walked out on her son, and didn’t even know him. Finn says Britt has a life threatening infection, and he can’t treat her. Obrecht says, can’t or won’t?

Michael tells Willow that it’s normal to wonder. For lack of a better word, it’s complicated. They’re not together anymore; she’s no longer a part of his life, and never will be. He says, at first he couldn’t say anything; now he can’t shut up. Willow says, it’s healthy. Keeping feelings bottled up can’t be good for him. He asks if that means she’s opening up during the next session, and telling her story.

Curtis looks at Leland’s obituary, and Sam says, a series of much younger partners took a toll on his finances and medical health. Curtis asks what Leland has to do with her. She says she’s his widow.

Jordan says, no messages to Kiki were returned, but Alexis say she’s not talking about texts. She’s talking about a photo. Chase says they looked at them, and there’s nothing to corroborate what Griff says. Alexis asks Griff if he took a selfie with Kiki the day of the wedding. Griff says Kiki thought she looked goofy and deleted it. Alexis says, on his phone, but not in the Cloud. It’s still stored. Alexis says, a picture is worth a thousand words. Or in this case, a good alibi. Chase looks at the photo.

Not-Doc realizes it’s a shock, but thinks it’s the best way to do it; face to face, so Laura doesn’t feel blindsided. She asks if he doesn’t think this is blindsiding her. She came to ask advice about her grandchildren, and he serves her with divorce papers. He says they were talking civilly, so he thought now was a good time. It’s like taking a bandage off; doing it quickly instead of prolonging the pain. She asks if that’s how he sees her now; something to be ripped out of his life. He says if they can’t speak civilly, let the lawyers hash it out. He tells her that he has to get to a meeting, but she says, no. He needs to tell her how they went from a happy marriage to a divorce in less time than it takes to sell a car. How? He tells her that she’s creating a scene. She tells him he doesn’t need to see a lawyer, she thinks he needs to see a psychiatrist. He tells her, don’t ever say that to him, or it will be the last thing she says to him.

Laura asks if not-Doc is threatening her. He laughs, and says, don’t be ridiculous. He’s just saying if they can’t speak civilly, let the lawyers do the talking. He doesn’t want it to be any more unpleasant than it has to be, and he doesn’t want to cause her more pain. In time, she’ll realize it’s the best way for the both of them. He leaves her with her mouth hanging open.

Alexis asks if Chase minds reading the time, date and location. He says, Port Charles, New York, November 26, 3:19 pm. Alexis says she’ll draw them a timeline. Griff was clearly with Kiki, who was alive, thirty-five minutes before the wedding. Fifty minutes later, he was at GH; they know, because he had to sign in. Assuming he went straight to the wedding after that, he was there at 3:55. She saw him herself. He left for five minutes to make call, came back, and went to the reception. He left just after the bouquet toss, and just after that Jordan and Curtis found Kiki in their hotel suite. How in the hell could Griff have time to murder Kiki, and plant her body there?

Sam tells Curtis that she was working a con. Her brother Danny had special needs. He required supplemental care she couldn’t afford, and there was no shortage of older, wealthy men. This was before she came to Port Charles. It was a different time in her life. Curtis asks how many others she ran a con on, and she says, too many. Leland was one of her first marks. His hair was grey, his house was big, and he had a heart the size of a pea. She went to the greedy bastards who only wanted a trophy wife. She would take everything, clean them out and go. That’s what she did to Leland. She left him in his big, cold, disgusting house, and never looked back. Curtis says, until now. He asks if she has any idea who sent it, and why. She doesn’t, but wants to put that part of her life behind her. So they need to figure out the mystery.

Michael says if Willow isn’t ready to talk, forget what he said; he’s sorry. She says, there’s nothing to forgive. She’ll talk when she’s ready. He says maybe misery loves company; he has something else going on. He asks if she’s heard about Kiki, and she says, it’s awful. He says she was part of his family. She’s the half-sister of his baby sister, but the connection runs deeper. They dated, but she was the love of his late brother Morgan’s life. It’s hard to believe she’s gone, or that anyone would want to hurt her. He apologizes for sounding like a downer, and asks if he can borrow a smiley sticker. She tells him to hold out his hand, and puts one on the back.

Obrecht asks Finn why he’s unable to save her daughter. Where has he failed? He says, if he had more time, he could cure her, and Anna says, just tell her. He says Britt contracted something rare, that he was able to isolate. He gives her a long name that I couldn’t possibly type fast enough, so for the sake of the story, we’ll call it Iberian corruptus. Obrecht says, impossible; he’s bluffing. He asks if he looks like he’s bluffing, and shows her a vial of blood. He tells her to check it herself at the nearest lab. Anna says Obrecht is the only one with the know-how and expertise. Finn says, if he only had time… Anna says Obrecht is the only one who can save Britt. Obrecht says, and in doing so, she gives up her freedom. Anna says the WSB wants to avoid internal complications, but as a mother, she knows what she would want to do. Finn asks, what’s more important? Her freedom or her daughter’s life. Obrecht asks how she knows it’s Britt’s blood. Anna says, there’s one way to find out. Her own eyes.

Jordan tells Griff, in speaking on behalf of the DA, he’s free to go. Speaking for herself, she’s sorry for Griff’s loss. Chase gives Griff his condolences, and removes Griff’s handcuffs. Alexis says, it’s over, and asks if he’s ready to go. Griff says he’s ready, but it’s not over.

Sam says the paper is from Galina, Illinois, where she met Leland. Curtis says they know it was mailed from Port Charles, so whoever did it brought it there to mail, which is unlikely, or they already live here. He wonders how they got it, and Sam says it could be someone from out of town who has a subscription. She used an alias, and it doesn’t make sense. She was sure it couldn’t be tied to her. Curtis says all they know is that they have a newspaper from Galina, Illinois. Sam makes a call to the circulation department, saying it’s about a subscription.

Obrecht down’s believe Anna and Finn’s trickery; they’re capable of anything. Finn says her daughter will die without her help. Anna says, Obrecht is a doctor. Tell her what she sees, and shows her a tablet.

Michael suggests he and Willow grab coffee sometime. Chase sees them, and asks what they’re doing at the hospital. Michael says he had a meeting, and Willow tells him that her class is on a field trip. What about him? Chase says he was there to see the medical examiner. He’s glad he ran into Willow though. He asks if they’re still on for tonight, and she says, sure. Michael looks surprised.

Sam tells the circulation department that she used to live in Galina and she’s getting homesick. Her husband Curtis told her to call and get a subscription, but she doesn’t know if they can do that. She’d like a hard copy, since she’s not good with computers. She tells them that she lives in Port Charles, New York. Somebody from there already gets a subscription? It is a small world.

Griff thanks a nurse for bringing him Kiki’s things from her locker. The nurse can’t believe it, but she’s happy he’s back. She wishes she could do more. Griff sits down, and opens the box. He sees a picture of them together.

Alexis finds Laura in Doc’s office, and Laura says that was fast. Alexis says she was already there. She dropped off Griff; he’s been reinstated, and is no longer a suspect. Laura says, that’s good news. Alexis asks, what’s going on, and Laura tells her that not-Doc is divorcing her, and she needs a lawyer. Alexis is sorry to hear that. She asks if Laura knows who’s representing him. She doesn’t, but the more she thinks about it, the more she’s convinced that something is really wrong with him.

Not-Doc calls Jordan. He’s checking on the Mary Pat case. His offer to assist is open-ended. She says they have a new development. Griff has been cleared of Kiki’s murder, and circumstantial evidence shows that the cases might be related. They might be dealing with a single killer.

Anna asks Obrecht if she wants to save her daughter’s life or not, Alexis looks forward to meeting Kristina’s friends, and Margaux asks Jason why she’d want to investigate him.

🍳 I checked out the premiere of Top Chef, which went with a Kentucky Derby theme at Churchill Downs. The venue’s chef, David Danielson, was the guest judge. I love a good chef show, and this was food porn at its finest. When one chef was praised for every bite being different, I wanted to reach through the TV, and grab that bowl. I can’t think of a better compliment. Looks like the show is off to a promising start.

Felicia tells Mac that she can’t believe this happened. What kind of sicko murders a poor innocent girl, and plants her body in a honeymoon bed? Mac says, not just anybody; the police commissioner. Felicia thinks Maxie must have been freaked out. Being there and having come home alone; they should have called her. They knock on Maxie’s door, and she tells them come in. They see Maxie rubbing Peter shoulders. She’s like, hi mom! hi dad! Felicia smiles, and Mac is like, what?

At the hospital, Anna tells Finn that she has to get to the airport. She’s going to be late. He says he has time. He still has to figure out who’s taking care of Roxie. Anna suggests Chase, but he says, it’s kind of a big step. She’s very demanding, and Chase has his hands full with Kiki’s case. It blows his mind. She was a sweet girl, full of promise and potential. Who would do that? Anna knows it wasn’t Griff.

Chase tells Griff it’s just the two of them. Tell him what actually happened with Ava. Griff says she screamed about Kiki. It was an exercise in grief. Chase says, that’s it? and Griff says, all that’s left is for the PCPD to exonerate him. Jordan comes in, and says she wants the truth about Ava right now. He says he can’t keep repeating himself, but she’s not talking about that. She means the crime Ava committed a few days before her daughter’s murdered.

Ava tells not-Doc, Griff is so good, she actually believed Griff, but can she trust that? If he’s not responsible, who is? Not-Doc says he is. Ava asks how is he responsible? He didn’t kill her. He says, yes, he did.

Sonny notices Margaux, and asks how long she’s been standing there. She says, long enough to understand how much he misses his son. It turns out he does have a heart.

Finn tells Anna it’s an awful time for traveling. She should be there for Griff, and he can be there for her. Anna says, and Roxie, and he tells her, that’s a given. She is worried about Griff, but if she doesn’t act now, Obrecht could relocate. Finn says, if it’s so important, he’ll come with her. Hayden doesn’t need to see him. Anna says she was pregnant with his child, and they were going to get married. He says, it was a long time ago, but she says, not that long. It’s important that he see Hayden in Rome. Epiphany hears them, and asks if Anna is out of her ever-lovin’ mind.

Felicia tells Maxie, sorry. She didn’t know Maxie had company. Mac asks if that’s Peter’s tux from the wedding, and Peter says he hasn’t had time to change. Felicia asks if he spent the night, and Peter says he was in the hallway. Maxie says she found him this morning. Mac thinks that sounds stalkerish, but Maxie says after the nightmare wedding, Peter brought her home. Mac says, so he stayed the night? and Maxie says he was worried about her and James.

Griff isn’t sure he knows what Jordan is talking about. Jordan says Sasha told them. Chase says Ava drugged Sasha and made it look like Griff was cheating on Kiki. Why wouldn’t they report it. Griff says Ava was already hostile. they didn’t want it to escalate. They thought if they approached Ava themselves, she’d leave them in peace. Jordan says, what about after Kiki was killed? Didn’t it occur to him that it was pertinent information? Griff didn’t think the two things were related. Chase says he’s protecting Ava. Jordan says he’s the only suspect in a brutal murder. He’s in no position to protect anyone, including himself. Chase says, withholding information will just make it worse. Jordan says they’ve heard Sasha’s account. Now give them his.

Ava says not-Doc isn’t making sense. Why would he say he killed Kiki? He says, not literally. Neither did she. Yet she’s suffering; not just grieving, but feeling guilty. It’s on him. He encouraged her to explore her fears and fantasies about Kiki and Griff, and she did. She wrote her daughter off; even said she’d be better off if only Kiki wasn’t around. Ava says she didn’t mean this. She just wanted peace. A moment when she didn’t feel less than. Not-Doc says her feelings aren’t wrong. It’s not her fault Kiki is gone.

Sonny asks Margaux how her life is. Her mom hasn’t been arrested. He helped her get the confession, so he’s just curious. She says he’ll love this. He was right. She’s so angry at her mom, but it no matter how angry she is, her mom isn’t the one she wants to punish. It’s him. But she has no evidence. Not one single solitary thing that will lead to his arrest. So what does she do? Sacrifice her mother for the hell of it? It won’t bring her father back. Sonny says he’s done dumb stuff out of grief. He made bad choices that caused himself and other people needless pain, all in the name of vengeance. For what it’s worth, he’s happy she’s off that road.

Griff tells Jordan that he and Sasha based it on how they felt, and lack of memory. Jordan says there’s only one person who stood to gain from it. His story matches with Sasha’s. She tells Chase they have to question the staff, specifically room service. Chase says he’ll find out if the food was unattended at any point. Jordan asks Griff what Kiki thought. Did she think her own mother could be that extreme? Chase says if there was ever a time for full disclose, it’s now. Griff says Kiki was worried Ava wasn’t through with them. Jordan asks if she expected more punishment from Ava, and Chase says maybe she gave them some. Griff gets how it how looks, but in no way does he think Ava killed Kiki. She wanted revenge, and is capable of horrible things, but never that.

Not-Doc tells Ava that he’s sorry. He thought he was helping her by allowing her to express her urges, no matter how negative, destructive, or violent. Now that it’s come to fruition, he feels he might have destroyed the best parts of Kiki by encouraging her anger, rather than telling her to set it aside and reconcile. Ava asks if he’d give her the same advice if Kiki was alive and well, and not-Doc says, no. Ava says he couldn’t have known what the future held, and he says she couldn’t either. She needs to forgive herself. Ava doesn’t think she has the strength, but not-Doc says he won’t leave her side until she does.

Margaux tells Sonny, don’t get too comfortable. One wrong move, and she’ll be all over him. He knows that. He also knows she lost her dad when she was a little girl. He lost his too. His father was a gambler, and took off when he was young. Whoever’s to blame doesn’t matter. It creates a hole in your heart that doesn’t go away fully. The point he’s making is that he understands that pain, and he’s sorry she had to feel that. She doesn’t understand how he can be a ruthless bastard, and say something like that and mean it. She knows he does. He tells her it’s possible to be two things. You can be ruthless and still have a soul. He starts to leave, and comes back, giving her his scarf. He says it’s obvious she’s not used to Port Charles winters.

Epiphany tells Finn and Anna it’s the worst idea ever. Anna says her going after Obrecht or Finn going to Rome, and Epiphany says, both. Anna says it’s not her business, and Epiphany says, her hospital, her rules, with Finn saying it along with her. Anna says that’s not how it works. Finn tells Anna she’s going to so lose this battle. Anna says she’s going to protect her son, but that’s not what Epiphany has a problem with. She asks Anna why not take Finn with her? Anna says she’s capable of doing it herself. Epiphany wants to rephrase that, and asks why she would send her boyfriend across the ocean to see his ex. Is Anna trying to get rid of her man? Robin asked her to keep an eye out, and she agrees with Robin; she likes them together. Anna is shooting herself in foot. Admit she likes him, and let him come with her. Finn laughs.

Maxie thanks Peter, and Mac follows him out. In the hallway, Max says he doesn’t know what’s going on, but he’s choosing to believe Peter’s intentions are good. Peter says, they are, and Mac says if it turns out he’s wrong, and hurts Mac’s little girl, he’ll make Peter’s life a living hell. In the apartment, Felicia asks if Maxie is all right. Maxie says she’s been thinking about Kiki. She had a bright future. Felicia says, like Georgie, and Maxie says, and Nathan. It’s infuriating and unfair. Why is she still there? Felicia doesn’t know, but she’s grateful, and there’s a little boy and girl who agree with her. They hug.

There’s someone to see Griff, who says they’re a friend. Sonny comes in, and asks how he’s doing. Griff says he’s been better. Sonny wishes he could say he doesn’t know the feeling, but he’d be lying.

Ava tells not-Doc that he doesn’t have to stay, but he says he wants to; they’re in this together. She doesn’t know what she do without him and Julian. If they’d told the police she had a gun… Not-Doc says, Griff could have done that, but chose not to. He says Ava is his priority, and everyone else can take a back seat. She’s never been anyone’s priority before, and he tells her, get used to it. Jordan and Chase come to the door. Ava lets them in, and asks if they’ve found another suspect. Jordan says they have to ask her a few questions.

Mac tells Peter, it’s complicated. He’s not just some guy. He’s Anna’s son, and Robin’s half-brother. Like it or not, he’s family, and part of the Scorpio extended clan, whether he has feelings for Maxie or not. Don’t tell him that he doesn’t; he has eyes. Mac says whether it works out with Maxie or not, he’s family, no matter what. Peter says he and Maxie had a great start. It got tough, but they’re working their way back to friendship. Mac tells him, proceed with caution. He’s not surprised that Maxie forgave him. She’s a fair person, but she’s also a widow, and the grief is still there.

Felicia says she loves Maxie more than anything. How is she doing with all this? Maxie doesn’t know what this is. It’s disorienting how easy everything is with Peter. They get along so well, and he’s super attentive to everything. Not to mention he could eat James with a spoon. She’s over everything, and doesn’t think he has an agenda. He’s the opposite of his father; he’s a great person. Felicia says, but…? Maxie says she’s still grieving Nathan. It’s too soon to have beginning feelings for someone else.

Anna tells Epiphany that Finn knows she likes him. Finn says he likes her too. Epiphany asks if she really wants him to see his ex in the City of Love. Both Finn and Anna say, that’s Paris. Epiphany says, the City of Lights then, and they say, also Paris. She asks, what the hell is Rome then? and Finn says, the Eternal City. Anna likes that he knows that, and Epiphany says they’re so cute together, it’s disgusting. Anna says she wants him to go. She wants him to do what he need to; hear Hayden out. Epiphany asks why, and Anna says, life is unpredictable. Epiphany asks Finn to excuse them, and tells Anna to come with her. She tells Anna she’s got to get it together or it’s going to be too late.

Sonny tells Griff that he’s sorry about Kiki. He was proud to have her as part of the family. Griff asks about Avery, and Sonny explains he and Carly agreed it was best to let Ava decide how and when to tell her. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. There’s no greater pain than losing a child. He knows Griff didn’t kill her. They’ll find out. They’re going by the book now, but they’re pros. They’re in it to solve the crime, and will. He tells Griff that he has the best lawyer in the state if he needs one, but Griff says Alexis already offered. Sonny says he’s in good hands. Griff says he keeps forgetting. He’s so busy convincing them that he didn’t do this, he forgets Kiki is actually dead.

Ava asks if she’s a suspect. She can’t believe this is happening. Her daughter was just murdered, and they’re here insinuating she has something to do with it. She tells them, get out, but Jordan says there’s no need to overreact. She has a pattern of obsessive, borderline stalking behavior with Kiki and her boyfriend. Sasha was drugged, and they need to know her movements. Ava knows she’s an easy target; the most loathed woman in town. She’s lost one of her few reasons for living. She’d never hurt Kiki. Chase says she’d drug Sasha, hit Kiki’s boyfriend over the head, and stage it to look like he’s cheating, but she’d never hurt Kiki. Not-Doc tells Ava, the sooner they clear this up, the sooner the police can search for the real killer. Chase asks where she was during the time-frame where Kiki was murdered. Ava says she was at the gallery with not-Doc. Laura saw them, then she came home. Jordan asks if she didn’t leave the entire time after that. Chase asks if she has someone who can confirm that, and not-Doc says he was with Ava.

Felicia isn’t advocating for Peter, but she’s not against him being in Maxie’s life. Nathan would be the first person to tell her to live it, and move on – when she’s ready. It’s for her to decide. It doesn’t mean she’s disloyal. The heart has unlimited room for expansion. She asks Maxie to remember how her heart grew when Georgie was born, and James. Maybe it’s Peter; maybe not. Maybe it’s someone she hasn’t met. When she’s ready and it’s right, it’s okay to explore the next step. Mac comes in with the decorations, and asks if Maxie is okay. Maxie says she’s feeling better.

Epiphany tells Anna that she knows she might be overstepping. Anna says, just a little. Epiphany says because of Robin, she’s aware of Anna’s past. If some men if resurface, they could throw her life into a tailspin, but she’s projecting that on Finn. She had a front row seat for Hayden and Finn. They’re both adults, and decided it’s over. Anna says, technically, Hayden decided, but Epiphany says, Finn moved on. Stop telling him what to do, and let him make his own decision on where to go. Speaking of which, she has patients she needs to attend to. Before she leaves, she yells at Anna to make her phlebotomy appointment. Finn asks, how’d it go? and Anna says, it went well. She says she has to go the airport. He says, last chance; him, her, Cuba, and she says she’ll text when she lands. She gets into the elevator, and the door closes.

Griff tells Sonny that they hadn’t said I love you. Sonny says, but they did. Griff says he was falling hard. Her intellect, humor, everything. When he thinks she’s gone, he can only see one thing; she was alone. She was afraid, and had zero comfort in her final moments. That shouldn’t be her ending; it’s wrong. Sonny says, she probably put up a fight, and Griff is sure she did. She was tough and brave, but in the end it wasn’t enough. Violence won out. Now he has to trust her to God, but he doesn’t want to let her go. Sonny says, it’s all right.

Jordan asks if not-Doc was there all night, and Chase asks why she didn’t say she had an alibi. Not-Doc says she wanted to spare Laura. She’s a public figure, and found them at the gallery in a compromising position, so they came there. Chase asks if his eyes were on her the whole time, and he says, they always are. Jordan asks what the nature of their relationship is, and not-Doc says, they’re consenting adults who enjoy each other’s company. Ava says he was with her when Griff came with the news. He went to the Haunted Star with her, and has been with her since. Jordan has no more questions, but Chase tells her, don’t go anywhere in case something comes up. When they’re gone, Ava says not-Doc wasn’t with her during a sizable gap, between the time they left the gallery, and he arrived at her place. He knows, and she asks why he lied to the cops.

Anna takes her seat on the plane. Finn sits next to her. He says he was only going to Rome because of her. He thought about it, and has nothing left to say. It’s over. He thought some more, and realized something. What makes him happy, also scares him. He loves her. She says, he does? He says, in a head over heels, can’t wipe the smile off his face kind of way. She loves him too, and can’t wipe the smile off her face. They kiss.

Maxie sees Peter’s keys on the table. Peter knocks on the door, and she hands them to him. She says she’s actually glad he came back. She thanks him for standing guard, and he says she already thanked him. She says it bears repeating. If his back ever recovers, she’d like to take him to dinner. Instead of accidentally running into each other, they should make plans to see each other on purpose. He tells her whatever night she decides, he has the feeling he’ll be free.

Alone at her father’s grave, Margaux says she has two choices. Either let this consume her for the rest of her life, or finally let it go. It’s time. She tells her father that she loves him, even if she never really knew him. She says, rest in peace, and walks slowly out of the cemetery.

Sonny knows Griff has a lawyer, but he’ll foot the bill, since Griff has been out of work. Griff says he’ll be all right, but Sonny can do something. Go to church, and light a candle for Kiki. Sonny says he’ll light a thousand candles. They tell each other to take care.

Chase shows Jordan a plastic bag with Kiki’s wallet in it. He says they found it in a canister at Griff’s place. It has Kiki’s blood on it. Jordan asks if he’s thinking robbery, but he says her license is the only thing missing. They tore the place apart, but couldn’t find it. He asks if it reminds her of another murder, and she says, sure does.

Not-Doc says it’s obvious why he lied for Ava. Ava asks how he knows she didn’t do it. Hasn’t she given him a litany of her crimes? Why take the risk?

Jordan and Chase go over the clues: two missing licenses; two female victims, both stabbed to death; and murdered in venues having a celebration. Jordan says they’ve been looking for two separate killers. Maybe they should be looking for one.

Not-Doc knows Ava is innocent. She asks how he can be sure, and he says he just is. As sure as he is about anything. He believes in her. She doesn’t know how she’d be standing without him. He says he’s right there, and not going anywhere. He holds her.

Tomorrow, Laura asks Aiden who’s bothering him, Michael asks Chase where they are in finding the killer, and Kim tells Drew something else is wrong.

Below Deck

Ross tells Rhylee that he doesn’t need feedback. She says, don’t ask for it then. In his interview, Ross says she needs to respect him. He tells her to fix her attitude, or ship out. She says, yes, sir!

The guests play in the waterfall, and Josiah takes pictures. The Intrepid comes to pick the guests up, along with Kate who needs to confer with Adrian about dinner. I always forget that they don’t wear shoes on the boat. It weirds me out.

Rhylee tells Ross the guests want to use the slide tonight. The guests tells Adrian that they want comfort food; like fries and burgers. In his interview, Adrian says he’s not keen on frying, but just because it’s comfort food doesn’t mean it has to be basic. Captain Lee calls Ross to the bridge. He asks if he heard the conversation between Ross and Rhylee right. It shows a lack of respect for him, and it’s not a good look for her. She needs to fall in line or leave. In his interview, Captain Lee says the only thing a third deckhand needs to do, is what they’re told. She’s not the captain on this boat. Ross says she has an aggressive attitude, and the captain says, ya think? He gets that Ross needs her, but doesn’t want it getting out of hand. Ross thinks Rhylee can go a long way if she changes her attitude.

Adrian says he trained in traditional French cuisine, so to make the comfort food more interesting, he’s giving it a French flair. Ooh! The sunset. Rhylee tosses flamingo pool floats into the water, and I desperately want to be there. The tablescape is a Jurassic Park theme with tiny dinosaurs amongst the flora. Why? Who knows. Adrian makes stuffed shells, and accuses Ashton of snaking he snaking girls.

Josiah says there’s more laundry, and the shifts are longer; he’s tired. The guests don’t look thrilled with Adrian’s version of lobster mac and cheese. He makes lamb sliders lamb, and a more sophisticated variety of fish and chips. Adrian visits the table, along with some truffle fries, and they all say the food is wonderful. You could have fooled me by the faces they were making.

Ross is sick of Rhylee, and wonders if the issue is with him. Ashton says he’d be exhausted explaining himself all the time. Ross says her attitude has to change, and if not, she’s out of there. Ashton is glad Ross is putting his foot down.

The guests go to the crow’s nest, which they mistakenly call the cuckoo’s nest. No. That’s a book by Ken Kesey. Shannon wants to go down the slide, but no one is up for it by now. She asks if Kate will go with her, and Kate says she never learned to swim, but maybe she can rally some people. Kate tells Josiah that she thinks Shannon believes her; she really has work to do. Adrian and Ross volunteer. Adrian has been looking at it since he got there. They put on these big glasses with flashing lights, and Ross says Adrian looks like a mad scientist. Geez. They only go down the slide once. Kate tells Josiah that he’s free to go to bed; she’ll finish. Ross and Ashton put away the slide. Kate puts away everything else. Kate thought once she worked her way up the ladder, it would be easier. Hashtag, tired.

At breakfast Adrian makes beautiful little scrambled egg with truffle cups. Ross gives Rhylee instructions. In her interview, Rhylee says she knows she shouldn’t speak to the boss that way, but doesn’t like being marginalized, and thinks her opinion is valid. The guests pack. Adrian tells Ross it’s a good crew. If he could just peace out with Rhylee. He thinks he’ll talk to her again, but because of the work environment, not in a friendly way. In Kate’s interview, she says just when she thinks she can’t love Josiah any more, he gets how they’re in this together. He’s the Thelma to her Louise.

They dock. Kate is happy it’s over, and the crew gets into their whites. The guests thank the crew. Mario says no matter what size the boat, it’s only as good as the captain and crew, and they were fantastic. In Kate’s interview, she says the Tahitian gods smiled on them. This group was just what they needed, being two crew members down.

Kate and Josiah have an interior meeting, which is a euphemism for putting their feet up. Kate feels her feet getting ready for the next charter. The captain calls everyone to the crew mess. He tells them that they nailed it. If he found anything wrong, it would be nitpicking. The tip is $17K. Kate is thrilled, and thinks they should have been firing two crew members a week a long time ago. Captain Lee says they’re going to have a barbecue tonight, and he’s gotten a day at the Meridian for them tomorrow. It’s time for some R&R. He tells Kate that she has a new stew coming later, and he’s working on getting a deckhand.

Kate tells Josiah that she can’t believe the new stew’s first day is a day off. She suggests they put her to work immediately, so she earns it a little bit. The captain calls Kate to the wheelhouse. He tells her the new stew’s name is Laura, and shows Kate her resumé, saying it might be overkill, but he’d rather over than under. Kate doesn’t think too much experience is overkill. She’s a Canadian yoga instructor, and Kate asks Adrian if he wants a roommate. He says, after the last one, he can only hope. Kate thinks Adrian and Laura will be soulmates.

And here she comes now. Josiah greets her. In her interview, Laura says she’s been in yachting two and a half years. She became chief strew on one boat, and then propelled. Backward? I’m confused. Third is low person on the totem pole. Kate comes out. In Adrian’s interview, he says Laura seems nice, but she sounds more Valley girl than Canadian. She asks Kate for a walk-around, saying, oh no, when she sees the white carpet. Yep. Had one once. Never again. She asks, who made this bed? and Kate says, we did. She points out a stain on a nightstand. In his interview, Josiah says he’s never met anyone who talks so much. Maybe she should just shut up. Ashton thinks she’s cute. Maybe someone he’d hook up with. Kate introduces Laura to the captain. In Laura’s interview, she says people think she’s a ditz because of her accent, but she loves to prove them wrong. Captain Lee says he doesn’t babysit, and she says he won’t have to.

Ross tells Rhylee she’s done for the day. In her interview, Laura says she was lucky to learn from and excellent chief stew who had the highest standards. She can really revamp an interior. Ha! I’d be careful about any revamping around Kate. Kate tells Josiah that Laura is effing annoying.

The crew gets ready for the barbecue on the dock. Adrian does the grilling. We find out Laura is single, and loves to party. Ashton opens the beach club. Everyone dances around the boat. Adrian brings out the disco ball. Rhylee is feeling alone. The guys are all after the new hot mama, and she doesn’t really talk to the interior. Josiah says there’s fresh meat in the zoo. Ashton plays bartender. Adrian puts a flower in Laura’s hair, and talks about Ashton being a snake. In his interview, Ashton says Adrian is trying to embarrass him, and it’s not cool. Everyone goes to bed. Laura thinks everyone is nice, and she’s super stoked.

Kate is excited to have a day off. She doesn’t have to wear a polyester polo and skort, while asking people what they want to drink. At the Meridian, they’re met with cocktails. Kate looks really happy. Adrian thinks they really need this, as a crew and individuals; it’s a blast. Adrian tells Laura that his father is from Texas, and his mother is French, and his father just passed away. A unicorn pool float blows into the chairs, amusing everyone. Probably because they’re drunk. They go inside as it starts to rain.

Adrian makes a dreamcatcher at the table. In Laura’s interview, she says Adrian is awesome. He has a lot of depth. She loves talking to people without judgement. She tells the others that she loves having fun, and bonding. She’s sort of like a walking dating profile. She asks what everyone’s favorite ethnicity of food is, and answers her own question. In her interview, Kate says Laura is getting on her nerves. She’s shared enough of her opinions in the short time she’s been there. Laura says she’s not going to lie. She sees clouds coming in. Kate says she is going to lie. She’s having a good time. She and Josiah leave. A white cat runs alongside them as they walk down the boardwalk. Josiah suggests he could be the third stew.

The crew goes to the beach. Rhylee and Laura use a paddle boat, and Ashton snakes up in another one. In his interview, Adrian says Ashton is full-on. He knows what he wants, and goes to get it. Rhylee comes back, saying, there was a mutiny at sea. The two lovebirds overtook the devil kayak. Adrian tells Ross that he can’t have meaningless sex. In his interview, he says he needs affection, and it’s more about sharing energy. He says they can be friends, and Ross says he can do it. Adrian asks, him and Rhylee? In Ross’s interview, he says Rhylee drives him crazy on deck, and the more he drinks, the more he’s attracted to her. Adrian predicts by the end of the charter season. Oh man. Don’t do it. That will turn awkward quickly.

Ashton does dance moves in the pool. Laura tells him, keep doing that. Adrian tells her that Ashton was a male stripper. She says, it’s not going to happen. In Laura’s interview, she says he’s not her type. They get in the taxi. Ashton puts his head in Laura’s lap. In the other taxi, Ashton’s snaking moves are noted, but Adrian tells Kate, Laura said it’s not happening. He’ll try to the end though.

Back on the boat, Ross tells Rhylee that he was serious about that back-rub. Ashton is going to the hot tub. Ross starts kissing on Rhylee, and closes the cabin door. In his interview, Ashton says, Ross and Rhylee have gone from being at each other’s throats to being in each other’s throats. He laughs so hard at his own joke, I have to laugh. Ross leaves cabin. In her interview, Rhylee says he’s good looking, but she doesn’t know.

Laura gets in the hot tub, followed by Ashton. He asks about her last relationship. She says he was a great guy, but she lost herself. She thinks a relationship should make you the best version of yourself. Ashton grew up with his parents at odds. In his interview, he says they got divorced when he was five. That’s why he hasn’t had many relationships. He doesn’t want to get involved in someone‘s life unless there’s the potential to get married.

Adrian asks Laura if she’s excited. She is. Rhylee doesn’t know what Ross was thinking, but she liked it. She doesn’t want a relationship, just drunk making out. Kate tells Laura to start in the master suite. Ashton does the windows. Rhylee tells Josiah about Ross kissing her. In his interview, Josiah says he’s shocked, but hate is the first sign of love. Ross tells Ashton that he only made out with her. Then he’s like, f**ck. It’s time for the preference sheet meeting.

The new primary is Brandy, a real estate agent on her first trip as a single woman in a while. Friends Caroline and Nadine are coming, as well as couples Kari and Joe, and Janet and Jimmy. Names we will never really need to know. There’s a request for tequila in their hands at all times. There’s a gluten-free request, but the rest is pretty basic. They ask for yoga, and Kate says Laura is a master. Captain Lee asks, how lucky is that? He asks Kate if she gets it, and Kate says she gets it as much as Kate needs her to. In Kate’s interview, she says she’s happy there’s a third stew, but Laura has only been there a day, and is already annoying. No surprise, Laura does laundry. Kate and Josiah discuss Ross kissing Rhylee. Kate thinks the kiss is weird, but it’s also just alcohol. Josiah doesn’t know.

Deckhand Tyler arrives. He’s going from sailing to yachting, to round out his knowledge of boating, and also the money. If you’re chartering a boat like this, you have money. In her interview, Rhylee says she has a hot new roommate.

Kate tells Ross that Tyler seems nice, but Caroline seemed nice too. He laughs. Tyler tells Ross he’s from Washington state, but he’s been traveling for the last four and a half years. In Tyler’s interview, he says people think he’s a surfer dude, and they’re absolutely right. He’s an adrenaline junkie, and wants to make a living jumping into forest fires, because it’s gnarly. Ross and Tyler are called to the wheelhouse. Captain Lee radios for Cheerios, reminding me yet again of my father. Tyler introduces himself. He tells the captain that he’s a quick study. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says he got a good vibe. You’re not successful on a sailboat without a good work ethic. It’s more complicated than a yacht.

Laura drops an entire tray of champagne glasses. She says the cloth was lumpy. Kate thinks they have about half the glasses left than they started with. Josiah says he broke one. Kate says this was like Laura was bowling, and she just had a strike. Laura vacuums. Kate shows her how make sure the glasses stay on the tray. The guests arrive, and Captain Lee gives the usual spiel. Kate will show you around the boat, and let’s get this party started. Brandy doesn’t think she’s ever been on a yacht with a bar attached to the jacuzzi.

Ross says he would have liked to have a day so Tyler could familiarize himself with everything. That’s how mistakes are made. It makes him nervous. The yacht pulls out. The captain wants the tender prepped. Ross thinks Tyler takes direction well. Ross says the line is loose, and Captain Lee says they’re out of there. Ross calls out to watch the other lines. Suddenly, Ashton gets swept off the boat by one of them. Rhylee radios, man overboard. He got knocked off by the tow line. On Watch What Happens Live, Captain Lee explained that Ashton had stepped into a bite, a loop that connects the two lines.

😾 No preview. I’m assuming they don’t want us to know what happened yet. They would not discuss it on WWHL either, but the captain is still pretty frazzled about this incident.

General Hospital

At the hotel, Maxie runs into Peter putting his room tray out. She tells him she locked herself out of her room, and is going to have to go to the lobby in her PJs for a new card. He insists she use his phone.

At a restaurant in Belgium, Andre tells Anna it doesn’t look like Port Charles will be rebuilding for a while. At least her loved ones are all right. Anna says Felicia and Griff texted. He asks about Finn, and she says she didn’t hear from him, but Griff said he was working in the ER all night. Andre says she must be glad he’s safe. She changes the subject, saying she’s grateful for Andre’s help in tracking down the midwife. He says being a medical professional has its perks. A woman approaches the table, and says she’s Michaela, the midwife. How old was she when she delivered Anna’s baby? Ten?

Sonny tells Carly that everyone is accounted for. Carly can’t believe Josslyn is okay, and Michael is supposed to be released this morning.

Nell looks at Michael’s picture on her phone. Monica asks how she’s feeling, and Nelle says shaken up, but all right. Luckily, Carly was with her, and she’s not being facetious. Carly did a good job calming her down. Monica says Michael has been released, and should be there any minute.

Jason asks how Michael’s head is, and Michael says he’s gotten the all clear. He asks what happened to Jason, and Jason says, a lot. He just dropped Sam off to check on Drew.

Sam asks how Drew is feeling, and he says fine, now that she’s here. He’s fine and the kids are fine; what about her? She says she made it through without a scratch, but she did go to look for him. He can’t believe she went alone. She says she wasn’t. She was with Jason.

Anna says it must be a mistake. The midwife who delivered her baby would be seventy at least. Thank you. Michaela says she must be looking for her mother; they’re both midwives. Anna asks if they can contact her, but Michaela says she died last year. Anna and Andrew give their condolences. Andre asks if she kept any records. Anna says she wasn’t in the position to take care of a child, and Michaela’s mother arranged an anonymous adoption. Michaela says that’s often how it works now. Anna says it’s vital she find the family. It’s possible her child inherited a genetic illness that manifests between the ages of thirty and fifty. Can Michaela help?

Maxie looks around Peter’s room, and says she thought there was no damage from the earthquake. He tells her that his clothes just blew out of the drawers; obviously, he’s not a neat freak. Maxie says neither was Nathan. Peter says maybe it’s a guy thing, but Maxie thinks maybe it’s a slob thing. He asks when she checked in, and she tells him a few nights ago. She can’t stay in the apartment without Nathan.

Carly tells Sonny that she gets why Michael is checking on Nelle, but doesn’t want him to send the wrong message. Sonny says she seemed nice to Nelle when he found them, but she says Nelle was scared when she thought the baby was in trouble. It’s nice to know she’s concerned about her child, but it doesn’t change anything; she’s seen Nelle’s true colors. She tells Sonny that Mike got lost again, making it twice in a matter of days. They have to deal with his father’s Alzheimer’s. They have to make a plan.

Jason tells Michael about the trailer collapsing. Michael asks what they did, and Jason says they found a way out. Michael wonders if it was as simple as that, and Jason remembers Sam telling him that she still loves him.

Sam tells Drew that Jason was at the Quartermaines. The roads were closed, and she asked for a ride on his bike. When she saw The Floating Rib was destroyed, she was scared when she couldn’t find him. He tells her he was trapped under a freezer door. She asks how that’s possible. He explains that they couldn’t find Oscar and Josslyn, and discovered they’d wandered off to be alone. By the time he and Kim found them, the earthquake had jammed the door, and they both had hypothermia. Josslyn recovered quickly, but not Oscar. When the aftershock hit, he was knocked unconscious and pinned under the freezer door. She asks how he got out, and he says, Franco and Dante. She didn’t think there was such a thing as karma, but Franco wouldn’t have been there if she and Jason hadn’t saved him.

Maxie knows should be handling it better. She’s a grown woman and a mother. Peter thinks she’s doing great. He saw what it was like going back to the apartment, and it’s beyond him how she even spent the night there. She says she slept on couch, and when that didn’t help, she cleared out Nathan’s stuff. She thought that would make it easier, but just made the rooms look emptier. She tells Peter it’s like the baby has a sixth sense. Whenever she’s in a downward spiral about Nathan, it gives her a kick. She was thinking about how unfair it is. The baby is carrying Faison’s genes, and Nathan would help her decide what to do. Does she really want to know if the baby is predestined to be sick when it’s older? All of the life-changing impossible decisions have to be made alone, and she doesn’t know what to do.

Michaela says her mother was known for extending her services, and Anna says she was kind. She didn’t push her when she didn’t want to hold the baby, and promised to find a good home. Andre asks if she knows any way to find out anything. Michaela tells him that because of the nature of her practice, she was afraid of discovery. It would have been indiscreet to keep records. She’s sorry, but she can’t help

Sonny asks Carly to wait a second, but she says it can’t wait. Mike was arrested. Sonny says it worked out. She says he was alone in middle of a natural disaster; this can’t go on. Sonny says it’s not his turf or home. He needs to get back to Brooklyn. Carly says he should stay there with them.

Nelle tells Monica that maybe Michael was delayed. Monica says he told her that he was stopping by to take Nelle home.

Michael tells Jason that he’s glad they made it, and Nelle and the baby are fine. He can’t change that Nelle is carrying his child, and doesn’t know if he can trust her again, but the thought of something happening to her scared hell out of him. He asks Jason what his take on Nelle is, and Jason says he barely knows her. Michael wants to know his opinion from what he’s seen and heard. He trusts Jason more than anyone.

Sam tells Drew that Franco had barely left the trailer when the aftershock happened. They were literally hanging off a cliff, and had to jump before the trailer exploded. Drew thinks she should be checked out, but she says she’s fine. She asks about him, and he says as long as she’s there, he’s good. It’s the first time he’s ever been grateful to Franco.

Maxie can’t fathom Nathan having anything wrong with him, and Peter says maybe he didn’t have it. She says there’s a 50% chance he didn’t, and could have been totally healthy. Maybe the other son is one who drew the short straw. Wouldn’t it be justice?

Anna says that she and Michaela’s mother formed a friendship. She was sweet and understood things. Maybe she mentioned Anna? She’d called her Tess, as in Tess of the d’Ubervilles. Maybe she knows that name.

Drew tells Sam he could only watch while Kim and Dante did CPR on Oscar. He felt guilty. He missed so much of his son’s life; he wants to make up for lost time. Sam hopes he gets his wish. He says all of his wishes are granted right now. He just needs one more thing – to get out of here. Monica walks in, and says that can be arranged.

Michael tells Jason that Nelle went beyond messed up. It didn’t have to be this way. If she hadn’t made the decisions she did, it would have made all the difference. Jason asks if she could go back, would she change what she did. Michael thinks so. She didn’t have an easy life. He knows his mom has issues with her, but she’s made enough mistakes to understand that people deserve second chances. Jason wonders why she can’t get there with Nelle, but says she has good instincts. If he were Michael, he’d trust them.

Carly tells Sonny that Mike can stay with them. They have plenty of room and can hire professional caregivers, and despite his relationship choices, Griff is a great doctor. Sonny says he’s not moving in. He’s from Brooklyn, and Sonny can put him in his own neighborhood; he’ll do whatever it takes. Carly says Mike is the only family he’s got. Sonny says he’s handling it, but Carly says he’s not. Sonny says the last time he checked, Mike wanted him back with Brenda, and she resented him for that. She says she’s not doing it for Mike; she’s doing it for him.

Nelle’s phone rings. She answers, then says, it’s not possible; it can’t be.

Monica says if Drew promises to take easy, he can go home. He says, in that case, he promises. Monica is thankful he’s okay, and proud of how he looked after Oscar, getting him and Josslyn out of danger. She tells Sam to take care of him, and he says they’re doing a good job taking care of each other.

Jason tells Michael about Hanna Scott, a girlfriend of Sonny’s who turned out to be a Fed. Everyone thought things were fine, but Carly zeroed in on it immediately. Sonny didn’t listen, so Carly trailed her. She ended up getting mugged, and her wedding rings were stolen. She was married to AJ at the time, but Jason replaced them for her. Michael says it makes sense now why she still has them. They remind her of Jason. Jason says she was relentless, and eventually was proven right. Michael asks if Jason thinks he should trust Carly’s instincts, but Jason says, no; he should trust his own, and like Carly, don’t let anyone talk him out of them.

Carly understands that Sonny doesn’t want to watch Mike deteriorate, and become a shell of himself. Sonny doesn’t know if he can do it, but Carly says he can, and she’ll be next to him. He can change his mind in six months, but there will be less of Mike to spend time with. She suggests he do it now, while he still can. Sonny say he’s scared. Carly says she knows, but not to let fear trick him into pushing Mike away. It’s going to hurt no matter what, but he has the opportunity to come away with something positive. He can make peace while Mike is still himself. She wants that for both of them, and knows he wants it too.

Mike comes downstairs, and asks if the phones are working. He called Rita, but she said she’d moved back in with her sister. He must have heard wrong. Sonny looks at Carly.

Peter tells Maxie that he did some research, and she can have the test between the 16h and 18th week of pregnancy.

Here’s where my dear friend George Stephanopoulos interrupts, so I can be told about the steel and aluminum tariffs. Because it can’t wait twenty minutes. I hunt down the rest of the show online.

Peter says he knows Maxie was worried, and wanted to help. Maxie isn’t sure she wants to know. He asks when she’s due, and she tells him June 17th. He says the timing is perfect. She says the baby is going to be a Gemini. Peter says he is too – his birthday is on June 13th.

Michaela asks Anna what the baby’s date of birth was, and she says June 13th. What a coincidence! Michaela tells Anna that her mother lit a candle every year on that date, and said a prayer for the baby. Anna asks why. Michaela says years later, her mother ran into the family, and they’d had to let the baby go. She questioned them about it, but they deflected, and ran off. She never saw them again. She suffered greatly over it because she felt responsible. Andre says it wasn’t her fault, and it isn’t Anna’s either. Anna is a survivor, and so is her daughter. Michaela says Anna didn’t have a daughter. Her mother had said she had a perfect little son.

Peter asks Maxie if it Isn’t better to know everything and be prepared. She wonders how it’s his business, and he apologizes for overstepping. She says, no, she’s sorry. She lost her edit button when Nathan died, and wasn’t tactful to begin with. He says she’s entitled to her feelings, and she says he’s entitled to his opinion. Peter says they’re colleagues, and she has the right to keep things to herself. Maxie says he was with her when Nathan died, and they’re past being acquaintances. Nathan would want her to get tested. He was concerned to point of being obsessive about the baby’s health, and she told him the baby would be fine. Look how wrong she was. Peter tells her somehow, someday, everything will be fine.

Anna tells Michaela that she was led to believe she had a girl. Maybe someone else gave birth on the same date. Andrew says without documentation, they don’t know anything, and asks Michaela if there’s anything else she can tell them. Anna says there’s a 50% chance of her daughter getting the disease, and she should know. Michaela tells them to wait. She has something that might help. She leaves, and Andrew asks if Anna is sure she had a daughter. Anna says she didn’t ask; she didn’t want to know. Valentin is the one who told her, but what could he possibly gain by lying? Andre says for some reason, he doesn’t want her to find her son.

Carly tells Mike she’s sorry, but he heard right. Rita left him. Mike says they were together five years, and had a great thing going; why leave? Carly says she came there looking for him, and she had to tell her about him being sick. Mike says she had no right, but Sonny says Rita backed her into a corner; she had no choice. Carly says when Rita found out, she made it clear she hadn’t signed on for that. Mike says, for him? Carly says, to see him through an illness like that. Sonny says he’s sorry, and Mike starts to cry. This dude is tearing my heart out every other day. Mike asks what he’s supposed to do now, and Sonny says this is what they’re going to do, and it’s going to be okay.

Nelle dries her tears. Monica comes in, and asks what’s wrong. Nelle tells her the earthquake destroyed her apartment building. She’s homeless.

Michael tells Jason that he’s going to see Nelle; he’s the only person she has. He thinks Jason is right about his mom’s perspective. She’s usually right about people in general, but especially about the two of them. She thinks Jason and Sam belong together. Maybe she’s on to something. Michael moves along, and Jason takes the dog tag out of his pocket and looks at it.

Sam asks if Drew is ready to go home. He says he’s always ready.

Jason wants to leave the dog tag at the nurses’ station for Sam. He says her husband was admitted to the hospital. Drew is suddenly there, and says Jason got lucky. He can give it to her himself. He asks what it is.

Anna tells Andre that she thought she and Valentin had reached truce of some sort. What possible reason would he have to lie? Andre says maybe it’s as simple as him knowing something she doesn’t. Anna hopes Michaela is wrong. She needs to believe her daughter is in good hands; a happy and well-adjusted adult, who didn’t inherit anything from Faison. Andre prays she’s right. Michaela wasn’t exactly forthcoming, and he’s not entirely sure they can trust her.

Michaela returns, saying she wasn’t sure she could trust Anna at first, but her mother did keep records. Perhaps this will help Anna find what she’s looking for. She gives Anna an envelope. She takes Anna’s hand and wishes her good luck. Anna thanks her, and she leaves. Anna opens the envelope. She says it’s her baby. It doesn’t just have the date he was born, but the year and the time. She has a son.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s going to do it. She’s going to have the baby tested. Peter says from the information he got, she should have someone go with her. She asks if that’s to peel her off floor, and he says or help celebrate. He suggests Nina, but Maxie hasn’t told her. Peter asks what about her mom? Maxie says her mom is amazing, but she’ll only make her more nervous. Peter asks her to tell him if he’s overstepping, but he’d be more than happy to go; someone to be there when she takes it in. She says she’d like that.

Anna looks at the baby’s footprints on the paper.

Sonny tells Mike he doesn’t have to go back. He should stay with them, and spend some time with his grandchildren. Carly says soon there will be a great-grandchild. He can share memories and laughs; let them take care of him.

Michael asks Nelle if she’s okay, and she tells him it was a false alarm; he’s the one who was actually hurt. He says he’s fine; his head is still attached. She thanks him for picking her up  and getting her home. He says he can help her clean up, but she says that won’t be necessary. She has no home to go to. She’s surprised he wasn’t notified that the building was destroyed. He says he’s sorry, but she says the story has a happy ending. She’s moving in with the Quartermaines. His grandmother wouldn’t take no for an answer. Monica says she’s invited Nelle to live with them. Nelle hugs Michael.

Sam tells Drew it’s Danny’s dog tag that he ordered for Annabelle II. Jason says in all the craziness, it ended up in his pocket. He’s glad Drew is okay, and Drew says, same to him. Jason leaves, and Drew asks Sam if everything is okay. Sam says when they get home, they need to talk.

Tomorrow, Jason wants to draw out Henrik. Sonny tells Mike he’s not himself, and Franco confronts Scotty.

🔪 Since I had to do some work for my paying job, I missed most of the finale for Top Chef. However, I managed to catch the end, and Last Chance Kitchen Joe won the honors. It just goes to show you, never give up.

⏰ I did catch a late-night mini marathon of Don’t Be Tardy, which I haven’t seen in a while. While I’m not crazy about Kim Zolciak, and her daughters seem dumb as rocks, I do like this show. I love her chef, Tracey, who is a total looney-tune, and the tone isn’t mean-spirited. Not nearly as good as Sweet Home Oklahoma (when’s that show coming back?), but a nice break from housewives, summer houses, and real estate.

SmileyConfusedMA36106495-0001 Elizabeth Hurley was a guest on tonight’s Watch What Happens Live, and seemed to have spilled some spicy tea. Apparently, she’s close friends with Victoria Beckham (who I love), and said that another Spice Girls reunion was a go. Maybe I’m behind, but last I read, it was a no. I have mad love for The Spices, and have seen them twice. Yeah, I know, but I love all genres of music (well, maybe not that experimental John Cage type stuff), and I think they arrived at a time when they were needed. They were the bubblegum of the 90s, and a sigh of relief after the angst of Kurt Cobain’s death. I saw them both times in 2008, during their last reunion tour. Back in the day, I went to a lot of concerts, but like Broadway, ticket prices have skyrocketed. Hell, movies are borderline unaffordable. Thank God there’s a dollar store in the mall, because I’m not taking out a second mortgage to buy a box of M&Ms. But as usual, I digress. I try to choose wisely who picks my entertainment budget pocket, and they didn’t disappoint. I felt like I got my money’s worth. Lots of costume changes, big sets, special f/x, and all the songs. And the girls really are good singers too, despite so many people poking fun at them. I’m sure they cry all the way to the bank. I’ve also enjoyed many of their solo efforts. Geri Halliwell is especially impressive. And dare I say it? IMO, Mel C does a better rendition of Like a Prayer than Madonna.

😩 I’m seriously growing weary of moments, movements, and international anything days.

General Hospital

Julian approaches Kim and Oscar at the hospital. Kim says she wasn’t expecting to see him there, and he says he wasn’t expecting sewage backup at the restaurant. He’s sorry, but he can’t host the party there. Oscar says he can’t cancel, but Kim tells him Julian has no control over it. Julian says the only people who will be in the pub tonight are from Hazmat. Oscar thinks there’s no way they can find another place in the next two hours. Apparently, he didn’t read my list from yesterday.

The sliding doors in the hospital are so loud, I don’t hear what Anna is saying on the phone as she goes through them. She tells Andre that she has the itinerary confirmed, and thanks him for going with her. Finn sees her, and says they’re supposed to be at the station shortly. It’s not every day someone like him is recognized by the WSB. Anna says before they go, there’s something he should know.

At the station, Jim says Curtis is the guy who broke in. Jordan says that’s an incendiary statement, and Curtis is an associate of the department. Since they have the same last name, Jim asks if they’re related, and Jordan says Curtis is her former brother-in-law. He gripes about nepotism, and asks where the maps came from.

Griff tells Ava that it’s incredible Sonny agreed to let Avery visit. Griff calls her gracious for helping Sonny’s father, but she says he was just confused. Ava was tempted to bail on the wedding, since it’s cutting into her time with Avery, but promised Franco she’d be there. Griff tells her that he knows she’s worried that people won’t see who she really is, but her kindness and generosity show.

Epiphany says Elizabeth looks flawless. She asks if Elizabeth is nervous, but Elizabeth says she’s never been more sure about anything. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Kiki and Felix with champagne.

Franco sees Drew in the hospital stairwell. He asks Drew to wait. They stand in the same position they were in on the stairs as children, and Franco flashes back to that. He nearly passes out. Drew asks what’s wrong, and Franco starts to cry and hyperventilate. Drew tells him to breathe, and asks what happening. Does he have the jitters? Franco says no, he remembers, and blows past Drew. Drew asks, what does he remember?

Cameron tells Doc that Franco’s car isn’t there, and he’s not answering his phone. Doc says he’s probably running late. Cameron says Franco marrying his mom is a big deal. She deserves to be happier than anyone, and he needs to know that.

Felix suggests they get the party started. Epiphany says since Elizabeth refused to let them throw the bachelorette party she deserved, they’re at least having some champagne. Felix says she denied him the night of debauchery he wanted to plan, but she can’t deny him a toast with his best friend. Elizabeth thanks Kiki for supporting the relationship, and helping her decipher what’s in Franco’s brain. Kiki admits she does speak excellent Franco. They toast to Elizabeth’s happiness.

Kim tells Oscar it’s not impossible. Julian says he asked around, but the entire block is affected. Oscar says it’s too late for the MetroCourt ballroom. Kim suggests the park, and says the kids can take turns being DJ, but Oscar says the kids just want to dance. I’m not sure why this is a problem, since they could just hook up an iPod.

At the church, Scotty says, here’s Ava and her gigolo, and Griff is like, what? Scotty asks if he’s her plus one, or is he performing the ceremony? Ava tells him that no one is appreciating his meager attempt at humor, and he says he’ll refrain from the defrocking jokes. Griff leaves to say a prayer before the ceremony. Scotty asks Ava if smoke appears when they get down to business. She tells him to knock it off, and he asks what about fun? Griff has no personality. Ava says he’s wonderful, and Scotty says if she’s happy, he’s happy. Maybe Griff will make an honest woman of her. She hopes so.

Jim says Curtis had copies of his maps printed out from when he broke in. Curtis says he doesn’t know what Jim is talking about. Jim says there were witnesses, and asks Jordan to hold him for questioning. Jordan says she needs hard evidence, and he says he has security footage. He’s friends with the new mayor, and asks if she’s going to do her job or does he have to demand she be fired? Ugh. He’s like one of those people who moves into your neighborhood and tries to take over.

Doc sees Scotty, who asks if he’s going to congratulate the father of the groom or just hate him? Doc asks what gave it away? When he punched Scotty for sleeping with his wife? Scotty says Doc is sleeping with his wife now, and Doc says ex-wife. Scotty heard his son is seeing Doc, and says sometimes things should stay buried. Doc says he can’t discuss patients. Scotty says Franco had a rough childhood, and asks if it ever occurred to Doc why some memories are blocked?

Drew asks Franco what he remembers, and Franco says they were little kids. Drew’s phone rings. He tells Franco to catch his breath. It’s Kim on the phone. She needs to talk to Drew, and he tells her he’s still at the hospital and will be right there. He asks Franco if they’re good and if he’s okay, and goes back upstairs. Franco remembers them being on Betsy’s stairs. Drew is at the bottom, and Franco shakes him and calls his name. We hear a voice saying, what did you do, Bobby? Franco says someone else was there. That sure sounded like Jim’s voice.

Jordan asks Jim if anything was stolen during the alleged break-in. He tells her the maps are proprietary information, and she says anyone at the worksite could have made a copy. She rolls up the maps, and hands them to him. She tells him that if he does press charges, the paperwork and court appearances will be nothing but a headache for him. He says he needs to protect his interests, and it could be corporate sabotage, and what if Curtis sells a map to competitor? Jordan asks for Curtis’s phone, and tells him to delete the pictures. He does, and she says, there you go. Now his company isn’t at risk. She asks Jim how he wants to play it, and he tells her breaking and entering is still a crime; lock him up. She tells Curtis he’s under arrest, and gives him his rights.

Finn says it must be serious for Anna to come there. Anna says it’s nothing; she didn’t mean for it to seem dire. Robert told Mac about them getting the awards. The ceremony isn’t open to the public, and Mac wanted to give them a celebration. He wouldn’t take no for answer. If Finn wants to bring date, they wouldn’t mind, so he can bring Alexis. He says that’s a moot point. He’s not going unless she can think of a reason why he should.

Oscar literally bumps into Finn. He apologizes, saying he was concentrating on finding a venue for their alternative dance. Finn asks, alternative to what, and Oscar explains that the biggest dance at school has a dress code that isn’t gender fluid friendly. Julian had offered Charlie’s, but there’s a situation with a broken sewer pipe. Anna thinks maybe she can help, and Finn tells Oscar that she’s usually two steps ahead of us mortals. Anna calls Mac.

Julian texts Ava, telling Kim that she owes him a few. Kim thanks him for being good to the kids, and he says he’s the one who disappointed them in the first place. She refuses to let him own this one; he’s not responsible for an act of God. He says if that’s what she wants to call it when things come out of nowhere.

Kiki says she’ll check on the groom, and Epiphany goes with her. Elizabeth thanks Felix, who says it’s nothing compared to bachelorette party he wanted. She says there’s a reason she didn’t. She knows her friends had reservations about Franco, and didn’t want to put them in an awkward position. Felix says Franco isn’t his favorite person, but she is, and being a friend doesn’t mean always seeing things the same way. They need to trust each other, even when it doesn’t make sense. He trusts her, and knows there’s good in Franco or she wouldn’t have offered him her heart. He tells her not to cry. Puffy eyes in the photos would be a tragedy.

Jim goes to his office. Franco says, hello, startling Jim, but I figured he was there. Franco says it’s about time he showed up.

Jordan joins Curtis in the interrogation room. Curtis says Jim is gone, she can let him go, but she says witnesses just saw her arrest him. She asks what he was thinking. He says they can’t find Betsy, and she wonders how that’s related to Charles Street. He says the maps have nothing to do with the construction. She asks him to tell her what’s going on.

Drew sees Kim, who tells him that he’s off the hook. There’s no dance tonight; the venue fell through. Drew glares at Julian, who says it’s out of his hands. He’s going to be cleaning up sewage in the kitchen. Drew says it’s a shame; Oscar was looking forward to it. Julian always finds a way to let people down. At this point, I borderline don’t like Drew very much. Julian leaves to make more calls. Kim tells Drew that was a little harsh, and Drew says, trust him, Julian deserves it. She doesn’t know their history, but says he was just trying to help. Drew apologizes, saying he’s in a bad mood. He had a run in with Franco on the stairs, and he was even weirder than usual. Kim says he’s getting married; maybe he’s just nervous. Drew says maybe he’s reading too much into it, but he and Franco were raised as brothers when they were kids. He was sent to a state home, and doesn’t know why. The only person who can help is Franco’s mother, but she disappeared. He asks her if he ever talked about his childhood when they were together, and she says he kind of lived in the moment. Neither one of them reminisced. She knew he grew up in a group home, but he only wanted to talk about certain things.

Doc tells Scotty that he can’t confirm or deny Franco is his patient, but that being said, he would never press a patient to endanger their mental health. Scotty says if anything Doc says or does causes Franco to snap, he’s going to hold him personally responsible. Epiphany comes out, and asks if they’ve seen the groom.

Jim says Franco almost gave him a heart attack. Franco wanted to see him, and he’s always here. Jim says no wonder it’s a match made in heaven. Last night Elizabeth was lying in wait, asking him about tracking down Franco’s mother. Franco says that’s not why he’s here. Jim says he knows Franco doesn’t remember him, but thinks Betsy would kill him if didn’t get to the church on time. He’s calling his car service. Franco says no one is going anywhere until Jim tells him why Betsy sent Drew away.

Kim tells Drew that he was fine talking about high school, and things like track and detention, but when it came to family, he didn’t want to talk about it. It’s understandable, and maybe if they’d had more time, he would have opened up. Drew says, but they didn’t and here they are. Oscar runs up to them, and says he found a new venue.

Finn tells Anna the ceremony was a little surreal. She says if you stay long enough at the WSB, they recognize you in one way or another. He says for him it was a one-shot deal. She tells him that his contribution was invaluable. Cassandra had to be stopped, and she couldn’t have done it without him. He thanks her for saving him from the party, and says the kids will enjoy it more than him. He hates bullies. She says that’s why they make a good team, at least in the eyes of the bureau. Andre calls, and Anna tells him to meet her at seven.

Elizabeth asks if Cameron is nervous. He says all that matters to Jake is that Franco will be part of the family, and Aiden only knows it’s a big party. He’s glad she found someone to love her and put her first, which is a very mature statement for a kid. She tells him to find Aiden before his brother starts playing Frisbee with the ring pillow. She tells Felix that Cameron is so grown up, and they wonder where the time went. She wishes Sabrrrina could be there. She didn’t judge Elizabeth for being with Franco, and would be happy for them. Felix says what she loved even more than them is weddings. Elizabeth can honor her by having an amazing time. Elizabeth thinks back to exchanging I love yous with Franco.

Jim tells Franco that he doesn’t know why Betsy gave Andy away. Franco says Betsy didn’t tell him that; she told him Drew was dead. Jim says he doesn’t know why she misled them, but they were at each other’s throats, and Franco could get rough. Franco says he remembers.

Curtis tells Jordan that he knows a thing or two about thing or two. One of the maps has the Charles Street acquisitions, and the other is the earth under the properties. There’s no reason to explore that deep just to build condos. Jim has other plans for Charles Street, and is after whatever is underneath. Eterna? (One Life to Live fans will understand that reference.)

Kiki sees Ava. Griff comes out and tells Ava that he said a prayer for Elizabeth and Franco, and one for her too – for gratitude that Sonny is letting Avery spend time with her. He says God works in mysterious ways, and wanders off to do whatever ex-priests do at church. Kiki says he doesn’t know she made a deal with the devil to get Avery for the night. Ava says she dropped the charges, and it was Sonny’s decision, but he should have done it straight away without her asking. Kiki says she blackmailed him, and Ava says she did what any mother would do. Kiki says, no, she did what she would do.

Anna talks to Andre about going to the airport together. Finn asks if they’re going on a trip. She says it isn’t anything, and he says she doesn’t owe him any explanation. He tells her to have a nice trip and leave.

Oscar tells Kim that the Floating Rib had been closed for a private party, but Anna talked to them and the kids can use it. Kim tells him to make sure to give Mac and Felicia a proper thank you. Julian says he’ll help bring the decorations over, and leaves with Oscar. Kim tells Drew he’s back on the hook. She’s sorry she couldn’t be more help. She can’t imagine how frustrating it must be, trying to remember. He says too bad he can’t trust the only person who might anything.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth not to put her dress on. Franco hasn’t shown up yet.

Franco tells Jim that ever since he was told he pushed Drew down a flight of stairs, he’s been trying to remember. Jim says maybe that’s why he was sent away. Franco suggests Jim tell him what he remembers, but Jim insists he doesn’t remember anything. Whatever happened was after he was out of the picture.

Franco flashes back to shaking Drew at the bottom of the stairs. He hears, look what you did, Bobby. Jim stands on the stairs.

Franco tells Jim that he’s lying. He was there.

Jordan asks Curtis what he thinks Jim’s plans are, but he doesn’t know. He already suspected it’s politically motivated. Niagara Equities would have lost a fortune if Ned didn’t win. Jordan is going to call Alexis and get Curtis out, but he has another idea. He’s already behind bars, so Jim thinks he’s in the clear. Jordan says, so he might make a mistake. Curtis says he’s not in a position to catch Jim making one, but she is.

Franco says he’s been working hard to try and remember what happened that night. Now he knows what Jim knows. Jim gets flustered, and says he doesn’t know what happened to Andy, let alone him being pushed. Franco says he’s lying. He was there. He remembers what happened, and no one is leaving until he hears Jim say it.

Tomorrow, Nelle asks if Michael is suggesting they give the baby to his mom, Elizabeth says the wedding is off, and Lulu thinks the alternative dance should have some exposure.

🎣 The contestants on Top Chef did some fishing in Aspen, having to first catch the meal they were going to cook. The dishes looked so good, I almost couldn’t stand it, but they were nothing in comparison to what was created for the chefs and connoisseurs attending the Food & Wine Classic. And they had to cook for two hundred people. Last Chance Kitchen Joe went on to the finale, along with Adrienne, and Mustache Joe had to pack his knives and go. He was still pleased he ended up in third place, and thought maybe he’d do even better. I agree. Just ask Jennifer Hudson. Next week – the finale.

General Hospital

Michael tells Mike a funny story about Morgan. Mike is sorry he didn’t get more time with him. Michael says he has more stories if Mike is sticking around, but Mike says he has a sweetheart waiting for him back home. Michael assumes Mike got a clean bill of health, and Sonny says he still has a follow-up. Mike says, he’ll be fine, and don’t worry.

Griff looks over Mike’s test results.

Nelle gives Ava a box of chocolates, thinking she could use a pick-me-up. Ava says she tries not to eat her feelings, and tells Nelle to enjoy them. Griff calls; he wanted to hear Ava’s voice, and misses her. He’s sorry about Valentine’s Day, but she says it’s not the day that’s important; it’s him. After she hangs up, Ava asks Nelle for the candy back, and shovels some into her mouth.

Carly tells Nina that she’s sorry about the office being like this. They couldn’t get in during the investigation. She’ll have the carpet replaced. Nina asks her to do it quickly. She wants all traces of blood removed. Maxie walks in.

Jason visits Sam’s office. He tells her that he couldn’t find Drew, and Sam says he’s at a meeting. Jason wants to talk about the Port Charles Press. Peter comes in, saying sorry to interrupt, but Sam says his timing is perfect. Jason has questions about the PC Press. Jason asks what about running an article on Faison’s will.

Brad meets with Alexis. He tells her that Lucas had an emergency surgery, and couldn’t make it.

Nelle looks at a sculpture at the gallery, and says she could use a statement piece for her apartment. Ava says it will look great in the place Michael is selling out from under her. Nelle says she has an upgrade coming, and it’s going to be a mansion next. She tells Ava about Monica inviting her to watch the election returns, and how everyone was happy and hugging. Ava says she’s practically part of the family. Nelle says not yet, but soon. Ava tells her to be careful and not to get over-confident. It’s one thing to be friends with Monica, but another to lure Michael from Carly’s clutches. Nelle says she’s going to be firmly back by Michael’s side, with Carly nowhere to be found. Michael walks in.

Maxie tells Nina sorry she’s late. Nina asks what she’s doing there, and she says, working? (This brings to mind when I walked to my first NYC job during what the city considers a blizzard. There were only two people at the office, and they asked what I was doing there. I said, coming to work? Being from Ohio, and never even having had a snow day, it wouldn’t have occurred to me not to show up.) Nina says she didn’t expect Maxie back so soon, and Maxie tells her to consider it a happy surprise. They’re behind, and reinforcements have arrived. She can’t stay in her apartment forever, so they’re both winning. Carly tells Maxie how sorry she is, and asks if there’s anything she can do. Maxie suggests some coffee, and Carly goes to get it. Nina tells Maxie she needs more time. Maxie asks for what, and Nina says processing what happened and grieving. Maxie says Nina lost Nathan too, but she’s at work. She asks if Nina thinks she’s more fragile because she’s pregnant, and not to be like everyone else, telling her what she needs. What she needs is to get back to work, and forget about the gaping hole in her life. She sees where the blood stain is covered with a cloth, and Nina makes up something about dropping her breakfast.

Sam is surprised at the idea of Jason wanting to publish anything, but he thinks it’s their best shot at finding Henrik. He tells Peter about him and Drew being beneficiaries in Faison’s will. Peter says it makes no sense. Jason says he turned their world upside down, and he’s not done yet. In order for one to claim what was left to them, the other has to die. Peter wonders what Faison could possibly offer that was worth it. Sam says Drew would get his memories back. Peter asks what Faison dangled in front of Jason, and Jason says, his son.

Sonny paces in Griff’s office. Mike tells him to take a walk. Sonny says he’s worried about Michael, and Mike says his son can take care of himself and so can his father. This fidgeting is driving him nuts. Griff comes in, and says he looked at Mike’s MRI and PET scan. They can rule out a stroke, and a number of other degenerative conditions. All but one. Scans don’t tell whole story, but coupled with the other factors, Mike has Alzheimer’s.

Carly stops by Brad’s table, and he tells her that they’re talking about the adoption. She says good luck, and he asks her to join them. He could use her input. She says adoption is a personal thing, but he says, please, and she sits. Alexis has good news. There’s a prospective mother who’s seriously considering letting them adopt her baby. The catch is that the mother insists on a semi-open adoption, and to remain anonymous.

Michael asks Nelle, what about his mother? Nelle tells him that she was saying she hopes his mom is nowhere near the childbirth class. He doesn’t think that will be a problem. Nelle thanks Ava for giving her time off and being supportive, and leaves with Michael.

Mike asks Griff what is it called again? and then tells him that he’s joking. Sonny doesn’t think it’s funny. Mike says he doesn’t have Alzheimer’s like Sonny has no sense of humor. He says he can go to ten different doctors, and get ten different opinions. Sonny says Griff is the best neurosurgeon there is. Mike says he knows you can’t really tell if someone has the disease until after they’re dead. Griff says that’s true, but the protocol for the diagnosis is sound; it’s been honed for decades. Mike tells him to keep on honing, and starts to leave. Sonny says he’s not going anywhere.

Maxie thinks the layout needs something. Her phone dings. She looks at it, and continues what she’s doing. It’s dings again, and she asks Nina if she knows how to turn off notifications. Nina asks if she needs to be somewhere, and Maxie tells her that it’s an appointment made months ago. She throws the phone across the room, then says, sorry. Nina tells her don’t ever be sorry, throws her own phone across the room, and says, there! Maxie laughs, and Nina asks what the appointment was. Maxie says childbirth class starts today.

Peter says Faison set the will up to mess with them; don’t play his game. Jason says he needs to find Henrik, who was involved in the memory mapping. Peter asks where the will comes in, and Jason says he left his estate to his son. He didn’t specify which one, and they believed it was Nathan, but it could draw Henrik out of hiding. Peter says he could get his answers, but Jason says he doesn’t need them. He’s curious as to why Henrik kept him alive, but it won’t give him back the five years, and won’t change anything. It could change everything for Drew though.

Brad says, so the mother gets all the information she wants, but leaves them totally in the dark, and has the right to show up one day. Alexis says that’s the open part. She tells him to mull it over, but the mother has asked that it be squared away as quickly as possible. Alexis leaves to do I don’t know what, and Brad asks what Carly thinks. She thinks she would have serious reservations if she were him.

Maxie tells Nina that Nathan signed them up. He was giddy about being her coach, and now she can’t believe she has to do this alone. Nina asks what time the class is, and Maxie tells her twenty minutes. Nina says let’s go. Maxie says she can’t ask Nina to do that, and Nina says she’s not asking. The issue is already late, and there are more important things at play, like her niece or nephew’s birth. She wants to do this. Maxie says she can call her mom, but Nina says, it’s Nina or bust. She wants to do it; she needs something to do. Maxie says it will be helping Nina as much as Nina is helping her.

Jason tells Peter the bottom line is Henrik is still alive. He could have a solid lead, and is worth drawing out. Sam asks what if it has the opposite effect, and makes him run? They should sit back and wait. He kept Jason alive for five years, and he’s here. If that doesn’t bring him out, she doesn’t know what will, now that Faison is dead. Peter leaves to take a call. Jason asks why not run the article?

Sonny says he’s not an expert, but trusts Griff 100%. It’s more than Mike being his father. Something is off, and it makes sense. It explains the missing money, the wandering, and what happened at Kelly’s. Mike tries to make it sound like he’s just getting old and forgetful, but Sonny says it’s beyond forgetting. Mike says Sonny wants him to be sick, and paid for a fake diagnosis. He wants to get rid of him for good. Mike tells Griff that he messed up bad when Sonny was a kid. Sonny says that’s got nothing to do with it. Mike says  the hell it doesn’t, and asks Griff if everything is confidential. He tells them not a word to anyone. Sonny asks where he’s going, and Mike says to find better company; someone who actually gives a damn.

Epiphany welcomes everyone to childbirth class. She sees they have a full house. Maxie sees Nelle with Michael, and says, you’ve got to be kidding.

Carly tells Brad that the mom wants to know everything, but wants them to know nothing about her. If she’s hiding, it’s for a reason. Carly wants them to be parents, and hopes works out. She leaves, and Brad calls Amy at the hospital. He asks if Lucas is out of surgery yet.

Mike startles Ava at the gallery. He asks what the place is, and she tells him an art gallery. He says it’s not right, and she agrees art isn’t for everybody. He says she doesn’t work here, and she tells him it’s her place of business; she owns it. He says no; this is Luke’s.

Sonny calls Max, and tells him to make sure Mike doesn’t go anywhere if he shows up there. He apologizes to Griff for his father’s anger and denial, but Griff says it’s a common reaction. He tells Sonny that he’s welcome to get a second opinion, but he knew before they did the scans. He’s treated others in Mike’s position. It’s just a matter of how they got there, and how fast; otherwise, it’s all the same.

Sam tells Jason why risk it? She’s worried they’ll scare Henrik off. If he’s thinking she’s afraid for Drew to remember because it will change things, she’s not. He’s desperate to remember for himself, her, and the kids. Even though they thought they were the same person, there are so many elements that make them different. She thinks everyone is trying too hard, like it’s a race to reclaim the memories, and it’s not. If they find the flash drive, great, but if not, life goes on. She says it’s like couples trying to get pregnant. They finally adopt, and then it happens because they stopped stressing. She thinks that could apply here. He laughs, and says he wasn’t clear where she was going, but he’s trying. I’m laughing because Brad and Lucas are the only ones adopting around here, but it’s highly unlikely they’d get pregnant on their own.

Peter returns, and asks where they stand on the article. Jason says scratch it. He’s going to keep looking on his own. Sam says sorry that she told him to stick around for nothing. Peter says it’s not for nothing. The whole Faison thing is fascinating to outsiders, although he realizes it’s a nightmare for them. He says for having thought they were the same person, Jason and Drew are nothing alike.

Griff tells Sonny that all patients respond differently to treatment, and Sonny asks what the options are. Griff says there are medications that can slow the progression and mitigate the symptoms. They also have therapy for how the patient can manage their life. The average life expectancy is four to eight years from the time of onset, but they have no clear picture of when it started with Mike. Sonny says they would if he’d checked on him. Griff says it’s not his fault, but Sonny says it is.

Mike tells Ava that he manages the place, and she’s not one of his people. He asks if Luke brought her in, and she says, Luke Spencer? Mike says he’s the owner; it’s his club. Ava picks up her tablet, and says it’s a misunderstanding. Luke did own a club on this site, but it’s gone. She shows him an article with the headline, Luke’s Club Lost in Fire. She says it burned to the ground years ago.

Epiphany wants to get started. Maxie is annoyed that she has to sit next to Nelle. Epiphany says they’ll go over the signs of labor, and the natural progression. Maxie tells Nina that she wishes Nelle wasn’t taking up so much room, and tells Nelle to move back. Nelle says if she moves any more, she’ll be in the hallway. Maxie says that’s perfect. Epiphany says they’ll have time for chatting later. Nelle asks what Nina is doing there, and if Maxie couldn’t find anyone sane. Maxie asks if Nelle couldn’t find anyone to love her.

On the phone, Brad tells Lucas that they have to agree on the option not to know the birth mother. They can offer the child a loving stable home, and that’s more important. Alexis comes back, and he hangs up. He tells her that he just talked to Lucas, and they want to go forward. They’re good with the semi-open adoption. Alexis says she’ll get the ball rolling, and he can’t believe they’ll have a baby in a few months. She says if all goes well, and he asks why it wouldn’t. Alexis says the mother likes them, but she also asked for more background information. That means an in-depth look at their lives and families. Brad says she’ll find out about Julian.

Nelle leaves the class, and Michael tells her that Maxie is grieving; she’s lashing out at everyone. Nelle says it still hurts to be told she’s alone. He says when comes to the baby, they’re a team, and asks her to go back in. Her phone dings, and she says it’s a reminder about a project she’s doing that’s off and running.

Carly picks up the phone. She says, whoever it is, she’s over it. She listens, and gets an odd look on her face.

Griff tells Sonny there’s no time for assigning blame. He needs to prioritize, and needs to get Mike to accept his diagnosis and formulate a plan of action. He says it’s better that he decide now, than have the decision made for him later when he can’t.

Ava asks Mike if she can call someone. He says, Luke, but she tells him that Luke doesn’t live there anymore. He asks if she’s one of Luke’s enemies, and if she works for Helena. He stumbles into a pedestal, and breaks a sculpture. Ava says she’s calling the police. He runs out, and she tells the police her gallery has been vandalized.

Carly looks confused. Jason walks in, and asks what’s wrong. She says she got a call. She doesn’t know who it was from, but it was just a sound. An explosion.

Peter tells Sam that he didn’t mean to get personal, but she says he’s right; they’re two different people. Jason cut his losses, and moved on, but Drew is still searching for a resolution. She can’t blame him. He doesn’t know who he is, and she can’t imagine what that’s like. Peter can’t either. Sam says it doesn’t change the past five years; what’s done is done. Jason lives in the here and now, and Drew is still struggling. Peter says it’s complicated all around. He wishes he could help. She says, unless he knows the whereabouts of the disco ball with the flash drive in it… and he says he can’t help there. In the hallway, Peter flashes back to picking up the disco ball and looking at it. He opens it to reveal the flash drive.

Tomorrow, Anna asks Andre what took so long, Epiphany hopes Elizabeth is right about Franco, and Sonny asks why he wasn’t warned.

🍜 On Top Chef, the contestants’ families joined them, and they had to make dishes from their childhood years. Moustache Joe made something with pig’s feet, which is just a no for me. I did have relatives who ate this while I was growing up, but lobster and crab aside, I don’t like to eat anything that looks like it did when it was alive. I made the mistake of buying a piece of fish once that had a surprise tail. The instructions said to soak It overnight, and in the morning, a tail had unfolded from the underside. I had to throw it away. Kerry went home after making some beef stroganoff that Tom said didn’t “tie together,” whatever that means. She wasn’t going out sad though, having gotten in the top four, which is pretty impressive. I was thinking about the difference between this and Hell’s Kitchen/MasterChef. While the competitive focus is still there, the Top Chef contestants seem more mature, and there’s a lot less yelling and goofiness. In a way, the shows actually strike a nice balance. Next time, the contestants head to Aspen.

👨 Speaking of Mustache Joe, he was the bartender on Watch What Happens Live tonight. Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller (Sam and Drew, General Hospital) also bartended this week, as they were in town for a GH event.

🎭 I know I said it already, but I’m very much looking forward to the new season of Imposters, beginning April 5th.  I don’t remember why I watched it the first time – there was probably nothing else on – because it’s not really my thing. I never watched any popular mystery and clever dialogue shows like X-Files (I tried), Moonlighting, CSI, Orphan Black, or even Murder, She Wrote – except for the one episode guest starring Marc Singer. So it was a surprise that I enjoyed it so much. Game of Thrones hit me the same way. While I love horror, and some sci/fi, medieval fantasy was never on my short list. Yet I was hooked five minutes in. Ditto for the books.

February 15, 2018 – Mike Revisits the Past, a Mixed Bag & I Spy Friday

General Hospital

Kiki drags Spinelli inside her apartment. She looks for her phone, throwing things around. Spinelli tells her to use his, but she says everyone is having a romantic evening, and here she is yelling. Spinelli asks if he should call someone, so she isn’t alone, and she asks why, when she has him? She grabs him and kisses him.

Amy apologizes to Griff for speaking out of turn regarding his love life. She says if he can find happiness he should hang on to it for as long as he can. If Ava makes him happy, that’s all that matters. He says he’s in luck, because Ava makes him very happy

Ava lights candles and puts rose petals on the bed. I can’t even express how annoying I think rolling around on sticky petals would be. I have no clue why everyone thinks this is so romantic. She looks at Griff’s text, and practices saying I love you.

Michael sees Sonny at the hospital. He’s looking for Mike. He went to run an errand, and Sonny hasn’t heard from him. He’s getting worried.

Carly answers a call from unknown caller, who says, I’m here, and hangs up. She doesn’t exactly look worried or scared. How is this plan supposed to work?

Alexis runs into Finn at the hospital. He accuses her of following him. She says she’s trying to distract herself, and asks if Anna’s mixed signals have gotten any clearer.

Anna goes to the Otisville, New York Correctional Facility. She thanks Andre for seeing her so late. He says it’s like boarding school with jumpsuits. She tells him Faison is dead. He heard, and says it must be a great relief, He doesn’t think she’s there to tell him what he already knows, and says if she needs a shrink, his license was suspended. She says she wanted to see her friend. There’s something she’s never told a soul about Faison. A secret she’s been running from her whole life. She had a baby, and it was his.

She says she never told Faison or anyone else. Andre says that’s understandable. Anna says Faison had a son, Henrik, who was responsible for holding Jason at the clinic. She thought it was a possibility Henrik was the baby, but Valentin knew more about what happened to her child than she did. She didn’t hold the baby or look at it; she couldn’t. According to Valentin, the midwife said it was a little girl. She never doubted her decision to give the child up – until now. She can’t stop thinking about her. She’s consumed with her, and doesn’t know how to act around anyone. Andre asks who she’s talking about.

Finn tells Alexis that he and Anna aren’t a couple. Alexis says she and Julian aren’t either, but it doesn’t stop the signals from being mixed. She inherited Laura’s schedule, and Charlie’s was booked for the viewing party. Finn says she did fine the other day, but she says it could be lethal combination if she loses; failure, her ex, and a bar. He sees her problem, and asks if he should come with her.

Spinelli says he’ll get Kiki some water. She thinks she’s losing her touch, but he says his heart is fully engaged elsewhere, but even if it wasn’t, he’d be remiss to take advantage. She insists she’s not drunk. Well, maybe a little. She doesn’t feel good.

Griff starts to leave. Spinelli calls Amy. He says he’s in a delicate situation, and would be grateful for her help. He’s at Kiki’s apartment. He escorted her home, and thinks she has alcohol poisoning. Amy calls Griff back to the desk, and tells him about Kiki. Griff says her apartment is on the way to Ava’s, and to tell Spinelli he’ll be there shortly

Carly calls the pay phone back. That lonely pay phone in the middle of Port Charles nowhere. The doorbell rings. It’s Diane. Carly is snippy, and Diane asks what got her in a foul mood. Carly says she just got a weird phone call. It’s as if she… but she doesn’t finish.

Michael asks when Sonny last heard from Mike. Sonny says Mike went to buy flowers for his lady friend, and left his phone. He went to all of Mike’s places, but no one has seen him. He must have gotten distracted. Michael thinks he’ll turn up, but Sonny is worried he’s in serious trouble.

Nelle sit at the counter at Kelly’s, and tells the baby their plan is working. I’d like to know how she came to that conclusion. She orders some decaf, and Mike pours it.

Ava calls Griff, but gets voicemail. She calls the hospital, and asks if Griff has left. Amy says he should be getting to Kiki’s apartment soon. Ava hangs up before Amy can explain.

Griff asks Kiki what’s going on. He heard she had too much to drink, and asks if she’s eaten. She says, shots, but he meant food. He tells Spinelli he can handle it from here. Spinelli wishes her a restful night and a minimal hangover. Kiki tells Griff that Spinelli left like everyone does, and begs Griff not to leave her too. He says he won’t.

Ava keeps calling Griff, but there’s no answer. She tells herself to get a grip. There has to be a reasonable explanation.

Carly tells Diane it’s probably a prank. Diane has forms for Sonny to sign, but Carly doesn’t know when he’ll be back, and asks if she can sign them. He’s setting up a trust for Avery, so being the legal guardian, Diane needs his signature. Diane asks Carly to tell Michael to return her calls. It’s never too early to plan for his child’s future. Carly asks her to wait; she needs some advice.

Michael tells Sonny that Mike always got in messes now and then, but came out okay. Sonny says when he’s pushed to a corner, he runs. If that’s the case, he has to find him.

The waitress asks if she can help Mike, telling him only staff can serve customers. He drops the coffee pot, and she says she’s calling the police. He tells her to go ahead.

Andre asks who Anna is thinking of letting into her life. Who does she fear sharing the secret with? She says anyone. Just the thought of telling Robin scares her, but there is someone she needs to confide in; one person in particular. She takes Andre’s hand and says she’s not being fair. He says they’re friends, and he has nothing but time. He can’t help her if she won’t tell him what’s going on. Who is she thinking of letting into her life?

Carly tells Diane that Nelle is going to be tied to their family for the rest of her life, and she’s concerned about what that means. If Nelle wanted to keep her and Sonny from the baby, she could. Diane says she’d have to show cause, but there may be things from their past they don’t want to come to light. She says Michael would fight the injunction, but Nelle is the biological mother. She has no criminal record, and would probably be shown in a favorable light. She wonders if Carly has reason to think she’d take it that far. The last she heard, Nelle was playing nice, and the last thing she’d want is to alienate Michael. Carly says all she knows is that if Nelle could get rid of her, she would, in a heartbeat.

A cop comes into Kelly’s, and the waitress explains about Mike. The cop asks Nelle if Mike threatened her, but she says she assumed he worked there. The cop asks if he can help Mike, and Mike tells him to ask the waitress who she thinks she is, telling him what to do; he runs the place. She says he doesn’t work there. Mike takes out his wallet to show his ID. The cop reaches toward him, and Mike backs up, sending the wallet flying. They argue, and Nelle picks it up. She sees pictures of Michael and Morgan.

Sonny tells Michael that he punished Mike for walking out on the family, but decided to learn from his mistake. He wasn’t there for Dante, but for Michael and the kids there was nothing more important than being a good father; being consistent, and showing how much they meant to him. He knows Michael will do that for his child. Michael’s phone rings. Nelle says she knows it sounds weird, but asks if he knows a Michael Corbin. Michael says that’s his grandfather, and Nelle tells him to get to Kelly’s right away.

Griff goes to the kitchen to get Kiki some water. She says he’s so good, it makes him bad. She struggles with taking her top off, and he tries to help her put it back on. Ava walks in, and asks, what the hell is going on here?

Andre asks if Anna is seeing someone. She says they got close, but the secret closed back in on her, and she had to push him away. Now Faison is dead, but the secret still weighs on her. Andre says he spent the better part of the last decade running from his fears, and tells her not to make the same mistake. If he deserves her heart, he deserves her truth.

Finn tells Alexis that she needs someone in her corner, but he knows asking for help isn’t easy. She asks how she should introduce him; as her date or her sober buddy? He says both, and she calls him a sober buddy date. She says when she’s nervous, she likes to eat, and asks if he wants to get something. He says he’d like that.

Griff tells Ava it’s not how it looks. Ava says a chatty nurse told her Griff was there, and she was worried something was wrong. Griff says Kiki had too much to drink. Kiki tells Ava that she drunk-dialed Dillon, and he was with another girl. Ava thinks she should sleep it off, and Kiki toddles to the bedroom. Ava tells Griff it’s not a good look for an aspiring doctor to be carried out of a bar. He tells her not to be mad; Kiki is going through a rough time. She says it’s not Kiki who she’s angry with.

Diane tells Carly that draconian as it is, it’s nearly impossible to sever parental ties. Nelle has a shady past, but it’s not enough. Speaking as her attorney, she tells Carly to stay out of it; it’s Michael’s problem to solve. Diane says he can be very canny, and tells her to look at how he got custody of Avery. He can be ruthless when motivated, and nothing is more motivating than being a parent. Diane’s phone rings. She says it’s the international firm, and she’ll call later, but Carly tells her to call now. She’ll tell Max to meet her at the restaurant. Diane says she won’t even bill Carly – it’s her Valentine’s Day present. She leaves, and Carly looks at her phone.

Sonny and Michael arrive at Kelly’s. Nelle says she didn’t know who to call, and Michael says she did the right thing. Mike tells Sonny to let the cop know he did nothing wrong, unless pouring coffee for customers is against the law. The waitress says he was serving customers and cleaning up; he wouldn’t get out. Sonny tells Mike they don’t know he hasn’t worked there in years, and don’t know he used to manage Kelly’s. Mike says he didn’t think it through, and might have lost his temper. He apologizes. He hasn’t been sleeping well, and gets mixed up. Michael tells the cop that Bobbie owns the place, and he can call her, but the cop recognizes their names. Sonny offers to pay for anything Mike broke, and takes him outside. Michael thanks Nelle. She’s just glad his grandfather is okay. Michael says he won’t forget this.

Carly tries calling the number again, but Sonny interrupts, coming in with Mike. She asks if he made it to the florist. At first, Mike is confused, but then says he didn’t get to it. Michael says they were closed, and Carly tells him there’s always tomorrow. He tells them he’s beat, and goes upstairs. Carly asks where he was. Michael has to leave, and says Nelle did them a big favor. Carly gives Sonny a look.

The waitress gives Nelle a plate on the house; she saved the day. Nelle tells the baby their daddy seemed grateful. Maybe it’s not necessary to destroy Granny Carly. She feels the baby kick, and says clearly it disagrees. The closer she gets to getting back with Michael, the more Carly will be gunning for her. She has no choice but destroy Carly before Carly destroys her.

Ava tells Griff that she spent her whole night looking at the phone. Didn’t it occur to him to call her? He says she told him to meet at her place, no matter how late it was. Since her surgery, she’s made him feel like he’s in the wrong. She says it was Valentine’s Day, and he says he thought she’d want him to take care of Kiki. She tells him it’s become a pattern, and not just with Kiki. He says he’s a sympathetic person, and asks if it’s a problem. She admires him for it, but just wishes one night he’d put her first, especially when she was about to – He says, about to what?

Alexis and Finn go to Kelly’s. Alexis asks him to order for her, and says she’ll be right back. Finn cleans the empty cup on the table with his napkin. Anna walks in, and says she’s meeting someone; she won’t be in his way. He says she’s not. She says there’s something she wanted to tell him about the two of them, but Alexis comes back.

Griff asks Ava if they can’t forget about it, and move on, admitting he should have kept her in the loop. The relationship thing is new to him. He tells her that they still have a few more minutes. They can pick up where they left off. Kiki calls for her mom. Ava says there’s always next year.

Sonny tells Carly that Mike was serving customers like he used to at Kelly’s. She says her mom did say he could always come back. Sonny says the look on Mike’s face when he realized what was happening seemed like he didn’t know how got there. He thinks something must be wrong with Mike. Carly hugs him.

Anna tells Finn he doesn’t have to explain. Diane comes in, and grabs Anna. She says Max is waiting, and pulls Anna away. Alexis tells Finn that Anna is wrong about what she thinks. Finn says she made her position clear, and he doesn’t think she cares. Diane tells Anna that no one is happier than her about Alexis moving on, but when did that become a thing? She says she’s been contacted by a Swiss bank to handle Faison’s estate in North America, and Anna is a beneficiary.

Tomorrow, Griff asks Ava if he should pretend nothing happened, Sonny tells Mike it will be over with before he knows it, and Monica apologizes for interrupting Nelle.

💬 Odds & Ends

🎥 The Lifetime network is like Bruce Campbell. It’s finally accepted and embraced its identity as a channel that shows promising movies with crappy endings, and is churning them out like crazy. Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story aside. There are always exceptions to the rule. I like to call it the hangover network, since you can snooze off and on through an entire day of films, but still won’t feel like you missed anything.

📺 That being said, UnReal returns to Lifetime on Monday, February 26th at 10 pm.

🍲 Winner of MasterChef’s season six, Claudia Sandoval now judges the chefs on MasterChef Latino (Sunday at 8 pm on Telemundo). A fiery, stylish redhead, she quickly became one of my favorites. If her last name sounds familiar, it’s also the last name of the Tom who isn’t Schwartz on Vanderpump Rules. As far as I know though, they are not related.

📖 The Book of John Gray is back on Tuesday, March 13th at 10 pm on OWN. Snagging TBN’s spot-on description: John Gray continues to defy descriptions and labels by seamlessly integrating worship, laughter, preaching, exhortation, and encouragement into one package. I loved this show the last time around, and hope I can squeeze it in.

😳 In this age of not offending anyone (yes, I’m rolling my eyes), why are women still made to look so ridiculous in commercials? The one that’s  irking me in particular is for the Kyleena IUD, where the women get really stupid looks on their faces while trying to remember if they took their pill. Then suddenly, they realize they didn’t have to! I dunno. I think I’d recall if I’d had surgery to insert a foreign object into my body, but that’s just me.

General Hospital

Kiki asks Elizabeth about the reception. Elizabeth says they’re having a hard time picking the right venue. Ava suggests the gallery, and Kiki thinks it would suit them. Elizabeth says she’ll run it by Franco. He has a lot going on

Franco paints a stairway to heaven. I don’t really know what it is, but it looks like a black light poster from the 70s.

At the hospital, Nelle thanks Michael for coming to the appointment. He doesn’t want to miss anything. She suggests calling the baby by its name, unless it a problem.

Carly asks Jason how he likes his new decor. He approves, and thinks he’ll be comfortable.

Alexis asks Sam how things are going. She says, great, all things considered. Faison is dead, and the only lead they have is his newly discovered son Henrik.

Peter tells Drew that he’ll stay on board until they find a replacement. Drew refuses to accept his resignation without an explanation. He can’t walk away without saying why he’s going. Peter says he accomplished what he came to do.

Anna asks Valentin if he ever crossed paths with Faison after leaving the WSB. He tells her that for a seasoned professional, she’s making a mess of this. He’d play this game with her, but his wife wants her gone, so he suggests they cut to the chase. Why doesn’t she just ask him what happened to the child she had with Faison? She asks what he’s talking about, and he asks if that’s all she has. She’s a wonderful liar – it’s what made her a great spy –  but he understands the paradox of a secret too painful to keep. She starts to leave, and he tells her to go ahead and run away, but she’ll never get the answers she came for.

Michael says he knows Nelle meant well, but thinks they should come up with something else. Nelle says she thought it was a good way to honor Morgan’s memory, but Michael says it brings up painful memories about their loss and the mistakes they made while grieving. Nelle assumes it’s Carly who doesn’t want it, but Michael says he doesn’t either.

Elizabeth sees Franco’s painting, and says it’s illuminating. His muse is back in full force. He tells her the best way to work things out is with a paintbrush. She asks if this is the result of his session with Doc. He doesn’t want to give Doc all the credit, but it was Illuminating. Elizabeth thinks she knows what the painting means.

Carly babbles to Jason about having the boys over. She says now it’s Jason’s turn; it’s his place. The boys will visit, and they’ll make memories. He hopes so, and she tells him, don’t hope; make it happen. He’s the most determined person she knows. When he decides to do something, he does it. She tells him to decide to have a relationship with his boys. If anyone tells him not to, they’re wrong.

Peter tells Drew that he’s still in shock from the shooting. He was lucky to come away spared, but Nathan didn’t. He didn’t see Nathan get shot, but he saw the aftermath with Maxie begging him not to leave her. He tried to staunch the bleeding, but not enough. it sounds cliché, but afterwards, he questioned his life, and if wants to spend it behind a desk. Drew asks if he’s going to the Himalayas to search for enlightenment, and says maybe he should just take some time off. Peter says he knows what he needs to do. Drew tells him that since he’s been there, the revenues are way up, and so is the readership. Peter says he told Drew the company had potential, and he’s glad to realize some of it. Drew tells him that he’s part of the Aurora family, and he hates to see him leaving. Peter thanks him, saying up until now, he didn’t know what it was like to have family.

Valentin asks Anna if she isn’t tied of running. She says she’s tired of him talking in riddles. He says he was clear; he knows she had a child with Faison. She asks how he came to know? He talks about a school in London much like Hogwarts, but it was a spy school. There was a beautiful princess at the school, and a crooked man, ugly as a troll. He knows what happened on a dark sinful night, when the princess went to Brussels where a midwife was waiting to help deliver a child. Anna runs to the door. He says he thought it was Alex, but it was her all along. She asks why he’s doing this. He asks if she doesn’t want to know, and she tells him he wasn’t there. He tells her to let him finish the story without interruption, and she comes back in.

Elizabeth says the painting is Franco crawling out of a dark place into something new and unknown. He says that’s more than Doc would say. Elizabeth is proud of him, but doesn’t want to interrupt. He tells her she’s the most important thing to him. She explains how Ava offered the gallery for their reception. He thinks that’s uncharacteristically generous, and she was probably trying to impress Kiki. He’s glad though, since he thought they’d have to set up food trucks outside the brownstone. They decide to have lunch, and discuss the plans.

Nelle tells Michael she thought naming the baby Morgan would help the contention. He says it was after Morgan died that she drugged his father and pretended to sleep with him to hurt his mother, Naming the baby Morgan will only bring back old pain. His family doesn’t deserve that, and neither does the baby. He suggests they wait until the baby is born, and come up with a name they both like. She asks if he means a name he likes, and asks if there’s anything else he’d like to dictate. He tells her that he wants to discuss anything they can compromise on, and be by her side as much as she’ll let him. She calls him exasperating. One minute, he’s unreasonable, and the next, he’s incredible.

Jason tells Carly that Danny is coming over. He’s nervous about it, since Sam has always been there. Carly says Danny knows he can trust Jason, and is safe with him. Jason asks how, and she says she’s sure Danny senses that his mom feels the same way. Sam knows that if she needs him for anything, he’ll come through. She knows she’s safe with him.

Sam explains to Alexis how Jason and Sonny figured out Faison had another son – Henrik. They think he was involved in the switch with Jason and Drew. Alexis asks if he’s still at large. Sam says she and Drew didn’t know the truth until after Faison was shot. Drew accused Jason of withholding information, but she thinks he wanted proof before saying anything. Alexis wonders if Sam had been alone, would Jason have told her from the beginning? Sam agrees that he didn’t want to put her in the middle. Alexis says, like when they kissed on New Year’s Eve?

Drew tells Peter that if he feels the same way tomorrow, he and Sam will respect his decision. Peter doubts that he’ll change his mind. They part company.

Sam tells Alexis the kiss was mutual. They talked about it, and it’s over with. Alexis suggests she keep her distance just to be safe. Drew calls Sam, and tells her something came up at work. She says she can meet him at the office, but he says he’ll come to her. They need to talk, but he’ll explain when he sees her. She tells Alexis that she needs a favor.

Valentin continues his story. In spy school, the crooked man was hopelessly in love with the princess, and hoped to win her over with a daring act of devotion. He hoped she would see the real him, past his physical defects. Her most obvious weakness was ambition. She wanted to leapfrog over the other recruits, and wanted to bring down the biggest baddie – Cesar Faison. She knew he was already fixated on her, and saw an in using his weakness. Anna says she wanted to destroy him. Valentin says he saw her when she stole away from school. He followed her. Anna says he should have stopped her, but he says this isn’t about him; it’s a story from his perspective. He asks if she wants him to stop, but she says, no. He says he followed and watched as she blended in. He watched her go through a door and come out in disguise, looking like a common call girl. She fooled everyone but him. He followed her out of London, and she went to pub where Faison would be. He was drunk when she sat next to him, and she got him drunker before she left. Rumors were flying that she’d stolen intel from Faison. No one knew how, but he did, and knows she got more than she bargained for. Anna tells him to stop it, but he says she’s made it this far. If she leaves now, she’ll miss the best part of the story.

Anna doesn’t deny her ambition, and isn’t apologizing for it. She wanted the glory of bringing him down. He was sick, and paid women to impersonate her. She thought she could pass herself off as one of them. Valentin says it was a dangerous game that went further than she expected, which brings them back to Brussels. He talks about the creaky stairs the midwife had to go up. Anna wonders how he could know that. He says she took a spontaneous leave of absence from school. There was a lot of speculation, but a contact told him where she was. By the time he got there, the room was empty with no sign of a mother with her child. Anna asks how does he know what happened, and he says he never did. She just confirmed it. She just confirmed she knows nothing whatsoever about birth control too.

Drew tells Sam that Peter tendered his resignation, saying he did what came to do, whatever that means. Sam thinks maybe he was shaken up over the shooting. Drew says he asked Peter to take time to think it through, but he seemed certain. Jim intrudes, saying the fates conspired in his favor. Sam introduces them, and Jim says he plans to be a major advertiser when the Charles Street project kicks into gear. Drew reminds him that’s if the proposal passes, but Jim thinks it will. He goes to the bar to get drinks.

Franco and Elizabeth come in. Franco sees Sam and Drew, and says it’s busy; maybe they should go somewhere else. Elisabeth says she’s ready for comfort food and beer. She tells him that if he’s going to stare, he should just say hello. He thinks Drew would prefer he play in oncoming traffic. They sit, and Jim says, hey, Bobby, small world.

Kiki doesn’t want to overstep, but asks Michael and Nelle if the baby is okay. Nelle says they’re just there to sign up for mom classes. She says she’s exhausted, and asks Michael to sign them up. She leaves, and Kiki says, so Michael is getting his Lamaze on; she wants a video. He says that’s not happening. She’s glad to see he’s getting along with Nelle, as long as she understands. She says they seemed affectionate, but Michael says Nelle understands there’s nothing between them. Actually, there is. It’s called a baby.

Ava tells Nelle it looks promising, and Nelle says the baby is bringing them closer. Ava asks what about Granny Carly, and Nelle says that’s a bit of a setback. Ava says that Carly is not going to give up without a fight, but Nelle says she won’t have fight left in her after what she’s planning. The details have yet to be finalized, but she might need Ava’s help to pull it off.

Jason tells Carly that Sam wants him to keep his distance. Carly insists Sam needs for him to wait until she can admit her love for him. Alexis comes by to drop Danny off. Danny thinks the place is cool. Carly says great taste runs in the family. Danny is puzzled by that, and Jason explains she means that she picked everything out, and is glad he likes it. He tells Danny welcome to his new place; it’s Danny’s new place too.

Danny brought Jason a present; a drawing of him and Annabelle II. Danny tells Jason about a Star Wars game he likes, and Carly says what a coincidence. There just might be Star Wars stuff in his room. He and Jason go to check it out, and Carly asks Alexis why Sam couldn’t bring Danny. Alexis says she had a work issue. Carly questions if it’s really that she can’t trust herself around Jason. Because Carly knows how everyone in the world thinks and feels better than they do.

Jim sits with Drew and Sam. He says it wouldn’t hurt to have a mayor who’s pro-business, and asks if they’re planning to endorse anyone. Sam says that would be unethical, since her mom is a candidate, and Drew is related to Ned. Jim asks if it’s Drew as in Andrew. He’s putting it together for the first time, and explains that he used to know Drew and Franco when they were kids. He dated Betsy, and used to call them Bobby and Andy. Sam asks if he knows anything else he can tell Drew about his past. Jim says, not much. He and Betsy broke up, and later he heard Drew had died, but that turned out to be untrue. He’s clearly alive and well. He says what a crazy coincidence that the three of them are in the same town. They were meant to reconnect. Drew stares at Franco.

Valentin tells Anna that he had the word of the midwife, but never knew for sure. Now he knows the truth; she gave birth to Faison’s child. Anna says the child had a monster for a father. Valentin agrees. That’s why he never told anyone. Crying, she thanks him, and asks if he knows what happened to the child.

Kiki tells Michael she’s celebrating with her mom about getting into med school. He tells her that the hospital is throwing a celebration for incoming students, but she says it seems to be a couple’s thing. She doesn’t want to go and be interrogated about where Dillon is. Michael tells her not to let him ruin her moment. She should go to the party and celebrate. She says she’ll think about it.

Ava asks Nelle how she can help. Nelle says she’ll need more flexible hours. She’ll get her work done, but needs extra time for the baby’s sake. Ava tells her to consider her hours as flexible as she needs.

Jason asks Carly if she wants to stay for dinner, but she says it’s a big night for them. They should order pizza and watch basketball. Jason asks what kind of pizza Danny wants, and Danny says whatever Jason is getting, calling him dad. Carly tells him to get used to it. It’s who he is to Danny, and always will be.

Sam asks if Jim can shed any light on Drew’s past. Jim says Drew is lucky to be alive after what Bobby did. The little psycho tried to kill him by shoving him down the basement steps. Drew gets up to go after Franco, but it’s all in Franco’s head. In reality, Jim tells Drew that he was always building things. It’s not surprising that he built a company. He’s looking forward to them doing business together. He leaves, and Sam asks if it’s her, or was he holding something back? Drew was wondering the same thing. Franco looks at his lucky rabbit’s foot.

Valentin tells Anna that the midwife said she couldn’t bring herself to look at the baby. He assumes it’s because if she did, she would never let go. The midwife told him that Anna begged her to find the baby a home; a place she could grow up happy, healthy and unaware of her father. Anna says, she? Valentin tells her that she had a girl. Surprise!

Kiki tells Ava that she wants to go to The Floating Rib, but Ava says she deserves champagne, not a bib. They’re going to the MetroCourt. She says maybe soon, she’ll have something to celebrate too.

In the hallway, Carly’s phone rings. It says unknown, and no one is there when she answers. Nelle hangs up at a payphone. I haven’t seen one of those in years. No wonder Jim thinks Port Charles is behind the times.

Franco and Elizabeth get ready to leave. Drew gets up, and asks why Franco never told him that Jim knew them as kids. Franco says it’s ancient history. Drew picks up the rabbit’s foot that Franco dropped and hands it back.

Valentin tells Anna that the story has a happy ending. The midwife honored her wishes, and found a happy home for the child. She never knew who her father was, and Faison never knew she existed. So Anna got what she wanted. He tells her good night, and she leaves. Outside, she smiles, and says she wanted a girl.

Peter’s phone rings. He answers, telling the caller they should be aware he’s leaving Port Charles. Valentin says that would be a mistake.

Tomorrow, Nathan’s funeral.

ℹ GH FYI

Mike’s girlfriend, Rita (Suanne Spoke), was also the NYC bartender who helped Jason hide when he was on his way back from Russia. He gave her Huxley’s “lucky” watch, so I wonder if this is ever going to factor in. I’m sure that watch was more than a watch.

🍰 This week’s Top Chef had the contestants cooking up desserts in the Stanley Hotel, which inspired The Shining. The challenge was to create their worst nightmare on a plate. For the most part, it was disappointing. One cook had been afraid of seeds as a child. Okay… Another cook wanted to recreate an egg exposing an unborn chick when cracked, which he claimed was a real thing. It was all I could do not to scream at the TV that this is a misconception. When you crack open an egg, and there’s a spot that looks like blood, it’s not a pre-peep; it’s a discoloration. In order to produce a chicken, an egg has to be fertilized. By a rooster. Farmers aren’t going to do that if they only want eggs. Bruce ended up having to pack his knives because of some undercooked barley. At least it wasn’t risotto, although oddly enough, he had wanted to cook it like risotto. Step away from anything risotto.

😬 This weekend, AMC will be having a Walking Dead marathon, as well as a preview of season 8B. When did seasons start sounding like apartment numbers?

🎭 Imposters returns to Bravo on Thursday April 5th at 10 pm. It’s a great show and worth checking out. Lots of fun, lots of drama, and lots of surprising twists.

✋ What’s up with this “my truth” business? The truth is the truth; there’s no yours or mine. What people seem to mean is their point of view of the truth. Everybody has one, but usually the real truth lies somewhere in the middle. #StopItPlease

General Hospital

At Aurora, Peter proposes a toast. He complements everyone, and toasts to a great new year at the company. Nina hopes the champagne didn’t come out of Crimson’s budget, but he says it was a gift from their landlord.

Carly tells Michael she can be there if he needs back up with Nelle. He tells her to enjoy the night, and happy new year. Sonny isn’t surprised, and Carly wonders if it was Nelle’s plan all along to start the new year with Michael. Sonny is like, in the hospital? And she says, could happen. Jason comes b,y and tells them that he has a plane to catch.

At the hospital, Nelle asks if her dizziness is normal, and Michael says that’s what they’re here to find out. Kim is off for the day, and Monica is her replacement.

Anna is working two laptops, and tells Finn don’t touch that or that or that; one tweak in the wrong direction, and everything is useless. She thinks he should go for a walk. I might point out it’s like, zero degrees today where they’re supposed to live. Finn calls her a glory hog, and says she’s stuck with him whether she likes it or not.

Valentin comes home to Cassandra and her companion in his living room. Or whatever they call it at Windemere. She’s bringing him good tidings. He asks if she’s leaving town, and she says she is. And he’s coming with her.

Finn asks if the bug is working, and Anna says it’s great. He’d be happier if she’d admit he’s not a bumbling amateur, and she says he has his uses. He says she can’t do it, even though she blackmailed him into this mess. Anna says he’s the one who refused to stop. She says they’re at the end, and can now pinpoint the location. Finn says, thanks to his bug, but she says technically, it’s hers. He tells her that he installed it, and she calls him impossible. He asks how long this will take, but she’s not sure yet, and it makes Finn a little nervous. Anna says she thought he said he had Cassandra eating out of his hand, and he says Cassandra needs to keep hands to herself.

Cassandra wants Valentin to put in appearance, and familiarize himself with the product. He says he has nothing to do with quality control, and she tells him to consider it a gesture of solidarity. He says it’s her brainchild, but she insists it’s time for him to get his hands dirty, and eliminate Sonny.

Jason wants to go back to Russia. He thinks somebody at the clinic might know something about Faison. Sonny says he might get killed, Jason he insists that he has to go. He steps away to take a call. Carly says he can’t get on the plane; he needs to be here with Sam. Sonny says whatever she’s planning – no. She runs off to talk to the chef, but he notes she’s going in the wrong direction.

Peter asks if their fearless leaders care to share any plans for the new year. Drew tells him they’re off the clock; take it easy. Maxie reminds Peter that tomorrow is a holiday. Carly pops in, and they thank her for the champagne. She says anything for her favorite tenants, and invites them to the party downstairs. Drew and Sam have other plans, and Lulu tells everyone that they rented out the Haunted Star to watch the fireworks, because it’s totally her business. Well, the Haunted Star is her business, but not shouting out Drew and Sam’s plans. Drew says, first, he’s dropping by the hospital to wish Monica a happy new year. Carly tells Sam it looks like Aurora has stabilized, and Sam says she’s looking forward to a profitable year. Carly is glad it worked out. She sees Sam’s ring, and asks if it’s new. Sam says Drew gave it to her after they agreed to remarry. She thought it was great for a fresh start. Carly says everyone could use one, and congratulates her.

Finn tells Anna that Cassandra toweled him off like he was a grease fire. Anna says maybe it was more innocent than that, and he says, employee harassment. She says, the nerve, especially since he’s completely unavailable. Finn says he is as far as Cassandra is concerned, and Anna wonders if he gave the wrong impression, and led her on. Finn says he would never cheat in a fake relationship – or a real one – but he guesses they’ll never know.

Valentin asks if Cassandra wants him to assassinate Sonny, and she wants it dealt with before they leave. It’s time to refocus, and he was right. Sonny is a paragon of virtue when comes to drugs. Valentin says he doesn’t tolerate traffic in his town, and Cassandra asks what he thinks will happen when his town is the hub of opiate traffic. It’s self-preservation. He has to kill Sonny, before Sonny kills him.

Jason tells Sonny his flight was delayed, but he has to find Faison now. Sonny thinks it’s more like he wants to get away from Sam, but Jason thinks it’s a good idea to keep his distance; Drew isn’t handling it well, and it’s killing Sam. Sonny says at some point they have to stop this, and make it okay. They need to figure it out for themselves. Him leaving isn’t going to change Sam’s feelings, and either Drew moves forward, or it will consume him; it’s not on Jason. Jason says Sam made her choice, and he needs to honor it.

Maxie tells Sam that they’re going to feel like the only ones in the world on the boat. Sam says that’s the idea. Maxie asks if that’s what she’s wearing, and when Sam says it is, she asks how many times she has to ride to her rescue in dressing appropriately. Friends don’t let friends do drab. She asks Nina for permission to raid the Crimson closet.

Michael waits for Nelle, and Drew walks in. He tells Michael that he came to see Monica. Michael says it’s good to see they still have a relationship. Drew says he’s a lucky guy, and asks why Michael is there. Michael says he’s there for Nelle.

Nelle thanks Monica for seeing her. Monica says even if she wasn’t on duty, she would have made herself available. Nelle says the Quartermaines stick together, and Monica says, you’d better believe it. Nelle asks if that’s a threat, and Monica says, no. It’s a promise to her unborn baby. Monica asks about the dizzy spells, and Nelle says they’re usually the same; she gets lightheaded and has to lie down. Monica tells her that everything looks good, but wants to do a full workup to be sure. Nelle asks if she wants to make sure she’s not lying; it’s clearly what she’s thinking. Monica tells her not to get upset; it’s not good for the baby. Nelle says it’s frustrating to consistently judged, but Monica wouldn’t know what it’s like. Monica says she does.

Sonny tells Jason if he thinks it’s the right move, he’ll back him, but doesn’t want him to take off and disappear. Jason says he’s not giving up his life there. His kids know he exists, and he can’t cut out on them; he would never do that. Sonny asks if he’s spending time with them. Jason says he saw Jake on Christmas, but Jake wanted nothing to do with him. He says Jake has been thrown so many curveballs, and now he shows up out of nowhere. Sonny says it’s not his fault. Jake needs time to process. Jason thinks maybe it’s good for him to go away, and give Jake time. He got lucky with Danny. Sonny says eventually, Jake won’t be able to deny it any more than Sam will.

At the Haunted Star, Maxie gets impatient. Sam comes out in a bodycon red number, with a keyhole neckline. Maxie says, me likey. Me too, but come on. Sam is gorgeous, and does her makeup impeccably every day, yet doesn’t know how to dress?

Lulu asks if Peter is going to the party, but he has a few things to finish up. She thanks him for giving her an opportunity. He says she’s the one brought the story, and thanks her. She wants to follow up with something just as big, or bigger, and wonders if he has any ideas. He says one comes to mind. The question is, does she have the guts to tackle it?

Anna balks at the two of them in a real relationship. She says Finn would drive her crazy. He says ditto, with her tea and crumpets, and accent. She says he loves her accent, and he admits that he does.

Cassandra’s phone rings, but she ignores it, and asks Valentin why he’s so squeamish? Just take Sonny out.

Anna gets a signal from Cassandra’s phone. She thinks it’s the factory, and calls Robert. She asks if he’s getting it.

Cassandra answers the call, and tells Valentin that the lab agrees Finn’s formula will work. She says they’re to leave immediately, and get packing. Valentin says his daughter is sleeping, and his wife is expecting him. Cassandra threatens to call Nina herself. Valentin throws her phone across the room, saying there’s only so far she can push him. Great. Now what? Eric! Her companion’s name is Eric! Cassandra has Eric fetch the phone, and says she’s capable of compromise. They can leave in the morning. It’s what’s best for everyone; trust her. And you know when someone says that, it’s the last thing you should do.

Anna looks at a map along with Robert. She tells him she’s looking for a water source; it would be needed to produce drugs. They find one, and she tells him to look for a road. Finn watches as she works. They find an airstrip, and Anna says to send in the strike team. They’ve got her.

Nelle is surprised to find out that Monica didn’t know who AJ’s father was. Monica says they didn’t have DNA tests then. Nelle says she hasn’t been with anyone else, and it’s obviously Michael’s baby. Monica says she’s not implying her story is the same, but maybe Nelle can learn from her experience. Nelle asks how she handled it, and Monica says it wasn’t easy, but she learned to focus on what was important – her child. Nelle needs to focus on that. Being born a Quartermaine comes with host of things. Nelle says for the baby, but not for her. Monica tells her that she’s not the first woman to have a Quartermaine baby, and she won’t be the last, but if it makes her part of the family remains to be seen.

Drew asks Michael if he’s sure the baby is his. Michael says they’ll know once they have a test, but the timing is right. Drew congratulates him, and says it turns out he has child from a former life. They agree at least their lives are interesting.

Peter suggests Lulu write an article about Jason and Drew. He can’t think of a more interesting story. Lulu says everyone else is covering it. He adds, except them. He figured it was on purpose because of Sam and Drew. Lulu says the story might never see the light of day, but Peter thinks maybe with a friendlier approach, and they can control it themselves. He suggests instead of focusing on the victims, focus on the perpetrator – Caesar Faison. YES!!!

Jason tells Sonny that Sam deserves a safe life for her and the kids, and Drew can give it to her. Sonny says she also deserves to be happy. Jason says if that’s what she wanted, he’d thank God, but she picked Drew. Sonny says that Jason is the person she’s meant to be with.

Maxie tells Sam that Drew will combust when he sees her. Sam isn’t totally in, and tries on the next dress. It’s black, very low cut, and sleeveless with sparkly shoulders. Maxie says that’s good too. Both are good choices, so she should just go for fit, style, and comfort. Strike comfort; it has no place in fashion. She tells Sam that they both match the coat she’ll need if they’re going to be outside. Sam says she has a coat, but Maxie scoops up her motorcycle jacket, saying it’s not appropriate. She says her work here is done, and leaves.

Monica sees Drew, and they wish each other a happy new year. She wants to steal Michael for a minute, and says she’ll be back. She tells him that Nelle and the baby are fine. He asks if she has any idea what’s causing the dizzy spells, and she tells him, low blood pressure. She’s been pushing herself too hard, and needs to take better care of her health, but the baby fine. Michael thanks her. She says they’re family, and that overrides everything. Focus on the now.

Jason tells Carly that his flight was delayed. He asks where she went, and she tells him, Aurora. She was hoping Drew would admit they own the company because of him. Jason says it doesn’t matter, and he doesn’t want her handling his battles for him. She tells him that he and Sam belong together, and she needs to realize that. He tells her, Sonny just said that. She suddenly gets a text from Sonny, and tells Jason that Sonny wants to meet him at the Haunted Star; he might have information on Faison. What? How dare they be so far up in Jason’s business?

Lulu tells Peter that people have a morbid curiosity about Faison, and would probably eat up a profile on him. He tells her to think bigger – a profile and interview. She wonders if she’s supposed to track him down, and pray he doesn’t kill her. I dunno. He’s kind of an egoiste. He might actually go for it, especially if he thinks Anna would read it. She asks how she’s supposed to find him when the WSB couldn’t? Peter says she has a gift. She has two things, aside from raw talent. One is her husband. She says Dante isn’t going to tell her anything, but Peter says he’s sure she has ways of convincing him. She also has her father. The feud between Luke and Faison is legendary. He tells her to sleep on it. If something comes from it, career made.

Nathan is still waiting for Maxie at the party. Dante tells him they’re wasting valuable time. When the baby comes, they won’t have any time, and the time they have will be spent talking about kids. Nathan says he’ll trade that for the baby being okay. He still isn’t sure who his father is. Nina says, that’s why Maxie pulled a hair out of Valentin’s head.

Cassandra tells Valentin they’re expected on the tarmac at nine am. He says he’ll see her in 2018. Outside, she tells Eric what way to start the new year. She’s going to need a phone replacement before the morning. Eric hands her the card, saying it fell out. Oh, Valentin, what have you done?

Anna tells Finn the factory was just hit. They were taken by surprise, and there was minimal resistance. A mass quantity of drugs was found; it was a large-scale production. They’ve officially secured the factory, and taken it over. Finn asks what that means. Did they win? She says the battle, not the war. He says, but it’s over and no one got hurt. He grabs her and spins her around. Yep. I like these two together. Finn says Anna could benefit from loosening up once in a while, and she’s like, says man who organizes his flatware. She says they still have one more thing to take care of. He asks if it’s Cassandra, and she says, make that two.

Nina is wondering where Valentin is. Nathan suggests maybe he stopped for a crime spree or a kidnapping.

Anna calls Valentin, telling him that her investment paid off. He’s concerned about retaliation, but she says they have a team out after her. Valentin tells her where Cassandra is headed, and she thanks him. He tells her to thank him after she’s in custody. Anna tells Finn that it’s finished. He guesses so is their partnership.

Cassandra walks back into Valentin’s house, along with Eric, who has a gun pointed at him. He’s wondering what the what, and she tells him not to play innocent; it doesn’t suit him. She doesn’t want him killed there, and tells him to come quietly, for his family’s sake.

Nina texts Valentin, but there’s still no answer. Lulu and Peter arrive at the party. Lulu tells Dante she’s his for the rest of the night. Maxie joins them, saying she was late for a worthy cause.

Michael tells Nelle that Monica said to take it easy. She says she’ll try. She found a job, and starts the day after New Year’s. He asks if the hours are flexible, and she says she needs the money. He says they can revisit the financial support issue. She’s not supposed to have any extra stress. She blows him off, saying she has the feeling this job will solve all of her problems.

Sonny tells Carly the party is off to a good start. She tells him it was rude to leave his date, and he points out that she actually left first. He asks what she’s up to, and she says he’s off the clock. Sonny asks where Jason is, and Carly says somewhere he needs to be. Oh, I see. She just said the message was from Sonny. I didn’t think Sonny would get that involved.

Jason runs onto the boat. He sees Sam in the black dress. They soap opera gaze at each other.

Tomorrow, Finn would like to stay, Sonny tells Carly that her plan isn’t going to work, and Cassandra has the crap beat out of Valentin.

💣 I have to mention that I’m really enjoying Jessica Tuck playing he hell out of Cassandra. As over-the-top as the character is, she makes it believable with a very understated, controlled performance. I’ll bet she’s having a good time too. Cassandra is a world away from One Life to Live’s Megan. I don’t suppose it will happen, but it would be fun if she were in a scene with Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva, Max, OLTL).

🍲 Television is still in holiday limbo, but I’m catching up with Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and Top Chef, both having new episodes this week. Tonight, the chefs cooked meals that were “pieces of themselves.” Most picked something reminiscent of their childhood, bringing to mind my father’s neckbone soup. While we probably ate things no kid would touch today – he often cooked “Depression food,” since that’s when he grew up – it was one of my favorites. I joke a lot about my avoidance of cooking, but can get ambitious occasionally, and did make it myself once when I lived alone. IMO, it was good, but not the same. Probably because the love was missing.

🌉 I knew long ago I could never be a chef, top or otherwise, but the jury is in on my being a broker too. My career would be over the first time I smacked a condescending client with a superiority complex, and way too much money, in the face. Tonight, one of Madison’s clients wanted to be on a certain road at a certain price for two months. It was the peak season, and she waited until the last minute. Like what I do when I’m getting my hair cut before the holidays begin. He did find her something slightly (slightly in terms of the wealthy, so I mean $100K) more than she wanted, but she compromised. I’d like to think her demanding attitude was to play for the camera, but holy! She was a witch of the highest order, and not very couth. Bringing up the price in front of the client is never good form. My interest was also piqued when James and David checked out what they deemed to be the future of real estate in LA, namely, luxury apartments. At first, when they used the term “vertical living,” I thought it must be some futuristic Japanese design. I was pretty surprised when everything looked like what it’s looked like in NYC for as long as I can remember, but it was cheaper.

December 1, 2016 – Over-Thinking on GH, a Random Thought & a Joke

What I Watched Today
(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Lulu and Dante are having some relaxing time. Rocco is asleep and the bills are paid. Laura walks in. So much for relaxing time.

Maxie begs Nathan to give her just a hint about her wedding present. Nina knocks at the door with some Crimson updates. She says sorry she’s late, but she was visiting a friend. Nathan is like, please, not Valentin.

Valentin tells Anna she already knows why he said “open your eyes” in Latin. She says he must know it’s the WSB training motto, and asks what his involvement might be.

Griff breaks up the fight between Franco and Tom. Tom says Franco is the crazy one, and Franco tells him if he goes near Elizabeth again, he’ll kill him. The second Griff lets Franco go, he goes after Tom again. Griff calls for help and a security guard comes running. Tom says he’s done his time and Elizabeth’s boyfriend just tried to murder him in front of her – which one is the monster?

Kiki tells Dillon about quitting her job. She says she hurt someone that Carly and Michael love.  They couldn’t get past it and neither could she. Dillon thinks she should take the chance to figure out what she really wants to do. He doesn’t think it’s waitressing.

Laura is like, sorry, and says she’s cramping Lulu and Dante’s style, but it’s temporary. She hands Lulu an envelope that has a honeymoon package for the MetroCourt, and asks if they feel better now. It sounds great and I am so ready to go. Oh wait, it’s not for me. She tells them to pack a bag and get going. She calls Doc.

Laura tells Doc she got his message. He says he’s just getting off work and has a pasta recipe he’d like to try. She explains that she’s babysitting and he offers to cook there. She’s not comfortable with that, and he says another time. He says he enjoys spending time with her and is glad she’s giving it another chance, but he feels like she’s pulling away. She says she’s not quite ready to go there just yet, and he tells her she’s worth the wait and he’ll call her tomorrow.

Monica sees Doc in the hospital corridor, and tells him that he’s the only person she can trust and she needs his help. Lulu and Dante take off for the MetroCourt.

Valentin asks if Anna would like a drink, but she’d rather have an answer. He tells her she’s over-thinking things. He says it was an invitation to look at him without prejudice. He’s not a threat to anyone, least of all her. She doesn’t believe it.

Dante and Lulu get busy in the honeymoon suite.

Tracy comes by Lulu and Dante’s place, and Laura explains where they are. She’s brought some wine and says it’s not a very creative gift when she sees the table overflowing with wine and flowers. She tells Laura that Lulu is a wonderful girl. Laura tells Tracy that she’s grateful to her for the support and guidance that she gave Lulu when she couldn’t be there. Tracy says they’ve never had a drink together, and no time like the present.

Doc tells Monica that it’s outside his area of expertise. Monica says she has to make tough decisions, and she doesn’t need the board to have one more excuse to turn the hospital into condos if she messes up. She gives him a file box and says they’re counting on him. I’m pretty certain this is going to turn out to be something goofy.

Dillon talks to Kiki about how he found his niche. He says he feels that waitressing is a way to put off chasing her dreams. Kiki says she’d need a dream to begin with, and she has no clue what she wants to do with her life.

Anna asks about Valentin’s childhood. He asks why the interest. She says his eyes and that they’ve met before. He says he’d remember her, calling her Agent Devaine, and then asks if he can call her Anna.

Nina tells Nathan and Maxie that Ava is a liar, and because she says Valentin is a killer, that gives her all the more reason to think that he’s a thoughtful, kind man. Maxie brings up the kidnapping, and Nina says he didn’t know anything about it and just wants to be with his daughter.

Elizabeth tells Tom that he provoked Franco. Tom asks if anyone buys the brain tumor thing. Franco says he and his brother better sleep in shifts. The first chance he gets, he’s coming after him. Griff says if they both don’t calm down, he’s calling the police. Monica asks what the blip they’re doing.

Tracy and Laura toast to Lulu and Dante. Tracy asks what’s happening with Laura and Doc. Laura says they’ve been seeing a lot of each other, but she slowed it down. She says she was worried about getting in too deep, and Tracy says she understands. Laura tells her she was glad to have the babysitting excuse tonight, and when he offered to come there, she turned him down. She says she’s been defined buy men all her life and doesn’t want to lose herself. Tracy asks if she’s over-thinking. Today’s theme. Laura says it’s exhausting, but it’s how she thinks. Tracy has an idea.

Doc says the hospital needs this and someone has to do it. It might as well be him.

Monica asks if Tom remembers her, or her daughter Emily, who he tried to extort. She tells him to get out or she’ll have him arrested for trespassing. He says they’ll hear from his lawyer and gets in the elevator. Monica says sorry, but GH has a zero tolerance policy for violence, and Franco is going to have to go too. Monica says she understands that he attacked Tom first, and at the least she can do is to suspend him for two days. Elizabeth tells Franco that maybe it’s best if he goes home. Franco says Tom was stalking her and scaring her. She says right now he’s scaring her. He says deep down he’ll always be the monster and walks away from her.

Laura tells Tracy that she’s having second thoughts, and Tracy tells her to come out. Laura is all made up and wearing a fur coat. Tracy says she looks great. Laura asks what if Lulu and Dante come home, and Tracy says she’s babysat for them before, and to loosen up. She pushes Laura out the door.

Dante has called room service for beer in a champagne bucket. He tells Lulu the story about when he saw her for the first time and fell in love with her.

Nina tells Nathan and Maxie that she’s taken an interest in Charlotte. She’s been through the wringer, having been introduced to three fathers within a month. Nina says it’s a lot for someone to take, let alone a small child, but she’s been reunited with her loving father. She says she enjoys Valentin’s company, and that he treats her like an adult, which is more she can say for them. She says she’s done a lot with her life, including saving a company. Nathan says he’s just worried about her, and she tells him that if she’s making a mistake, it’s hers to make, not his. After she’s gone, Nathan tells Maxie that he blew it. Maxie says badly, but she loves him anyway.

Valentin tells Anna that he chooses not to dwell on the past. His solitary study taught him a lot from books. He talks about what can be learned from Shakespeare. She asks if he sees himself as a Shakespearean character. He says he did when he was younger, and it steered him to who he wanted to be. She asks who he sees himself as, and he says not Richard III. He says the only reason Richard lost the battle at Bosworth was that he trusted the wrong person. Anna gets up, saying she obviously isn’t getting any answers. Valentin tells her that he thought they could be friends, and maybe were in another life. She smiles to herself on the porch, perplexing me.

Franco says the anger is returning and there’s no way for him to keep it in check, especially since the recipient is deserving. We see that he’s talking to Heather. He needs Heather’s advice because no one else knows where he’s coming from.

Laura knocks at Doc’s door. She opens the coat. She’s nakey underneath. Santa answers the door. He’s probably thinking, ho-ho-ho, but she screams.

Lulu tells Dante that she’s heard this story before, but he’s leaving out details, like her brothers kicking the spit out of him.

Dillon goes to Lulu and Dante’s place, and Tracy answers the door. He says he’ll add his gift to the pile. She’s glad he mended his relationship with Lulu. He says thanks for reminding him of their rift, but he and Lulu are friends now. Tracy asks if he’s going to let the same thing happen with Kiki.

Kiki is applying for a waitress job at Kelly’s and says maybe Dillon is right. She brings up a career aptitude test on her phone.

Franco says he knows Heather is upset with him. She says he ratted her out, and she can’t sneeze now without an intervention. Franco says he’s scared he’s going to lose Elizabeth if he does what he wants to do. He tells her about Tom and how he wants to watch him suffer. Heather says he came to the right place. He asks how to make it stop. She says his thoughts aren’t the problem, Elizabeth is.

Griff asks Elizabeth if she’s okay. She says she has to be, she has three kids. She says she knew this day was coming, and made a promise that Tom couldn’t control her when he got out of prison.

Anna sees Nina at Kelly’s and asks if she can join her. Nina says before she starts her inquisition, Claudette is a pathological liar, and nothing she says about Valentin is true. She tells Anna that she and Valentin are strangely alike, and they were both lonely kids. He was shipped off to school as a child and never even  went home for holidays. Anna asks what school he went to.

Valentin recites Shakespeare as he takes an old picture of Anna out of a wooden box.

Laura thinks she got the wrong house, but it’s Doc in a Santa suit. He explains that Monica put him on Santa duty. Laura says she doesn’t know what she was thinking, but he says he likes it. She says that she wanted to prove she could be spontaneous. He says he likes the way she is, and she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone except herself. She asks if he’s inviting her in, and he asks if she’s sure. I guess Santa duty is going to have to wait.

Lulu and Dante toast to new beginnings.

Dillon tells Tracy that Kiki feels she would be betraying Morgan if they got together, and he has to respect that. Tracy appreciates that she raised him properly, but asks if he’s giving up without a fight.

Kiki looks at the phone and says her career weirdly makes sense.

Nathan leaves a message for Nina, apologizing. He tells Maxie that he pressed all the wrong buttons and practically shoved her back to Valentin. I gotta say, I’m into Valentin too, and nobody shoved me.

After a few tries at remembering, Nina tells Anna that Valentin’s school was Bedlington in England. Anna asks if she’s sure. (Maybe England is where she and Valentin know each other from?) Nina says she’s not sure about anything, least of all why she should cooperate with her, when Anna is after a man she considers a friend. Nina bids her good day.

Anna makes a call. She wants some information about the boarding school.

Valentin says Anna will have her answers when the time is right.

Franco tells Heather that Elizabeth isn’t the problem, Tom is. Heather says he’s a symptom; Elizabeth is the disease. She says a catalyst comes along, and Franco tries to be something he’s not. It’s like putting a pin in a balloon and he’s about to explode. She tells him everything is fine if there are no complications, but you can’t remove pinpricks from life. Franco says, watch him.

Elizabeth tells Griff that Franco is very protective of the people he cares about, and there’s no telling what he would do if one of them is threatened.

While leaving Kelly’s, Kiki drops her wallet. Tom picks it up and gives it back to her. He waits a few beats, and follows.

Tomorrow, Michael asks Nell out, Anna asks Alexis for dirt on Valentin, and Carly wants to get back with Sonny.

🍳 Random thought. I find myself nodding sagely as I watch Top Chef. Like I know the first thing about what they’re doing.
