What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I missed the beginning. I always think I’ll have time later to look at it real fast On Demand, but I never do. I live in denial. It was just a minute or two, so you’ll figure it out. Moving on…

Nikolas says he’s back to take what was stolen from him, and burn Valentin’s life to ashes.

Jax doesn’t understand; Nikolas was supposed to keep himself concealed. Ava saw him. Nikolas says, Ava is unhinged; just not as much as she thinks. If she keeps insisting he’s alive, she’ll get herself involuntarily committed. He’s dead, and that’s how he’s going to stay until the time is right. Jax says Nikolas was supposed to remain incognito on the other side of the world. Now he’s mingling with family and friends. How long before he gets caught?

The nurse tells Laura and Scotty that Ava is sedated, but it might take a while for it to fully affect her. Scotty says, she looks pretty out of it. The nurse says she was agitated, and claims she saw someone who’s not there.

Josslyn goes out on the terrace, and asks Lucas if he wants to talk about it. He says, her first. He heard she got drunk for the first time. Judging from her lack of a hangover, she must have already thrown most of it up. She says it’s the sickest she’s ever been, and he asks if her parents put the hammer down yet. She says, they’re having a summit about it now, and they’re talking about it later. Does he have any advice? He says, sorry. If Wiley got drunk, he’d be in lockdown. Josslyn says Carly told her that Lucas was the good kid. He doesn’t know what it’s like to mess up. He says she’d be surprised.

Brad goes to see Julian one more time. He tells Julian there’s no reason to destroy his family. Julian says Brad is a walking black hole, and destroys everything that he’s around. Lucas will have friends and family to see him through. Julian says it’s not about himself; it’s about him protecting Lucas and Wiley. If Brad loves them, he should understand, and make his exit. Brad says his leaving won’t solve the problems with Nelle and Obrecht. Julian says he’ll take care of them. The sooner Brad is gone, the better. Lucas will find someone else who won’t drag him down. Brad asks, what about their son? and Julian says Wiley is young. He won’t remember Brad. It will be like he never existed.

Franco apologizes for showing up at Elizabeth’s house unannounced, and asks if it’s a bad time. She says school mornings are never good, but invites him in. He asks if the other kids are there, and she says Bobbie took Aiden and Jake out for breakfast. Cameron is on home study. She tells Cameron to get to it, but he doesn’t budge. Franco says Cameron doesn’t want to leave her alone with him. He has good instincts; it’s a credit to her. She tells Cameron, she’ll be fine; go study. Franco says he doesn’t mean to throw a wrench in their day, and  tells Cameron, don’t go. He has something to say that won’t take long, and they both need to hear it. Elizabeth says if he’s in a hurry, they can do it another time, but he says that doesn’t work for him. Cameron wonders what plans Franco could have, and Franco flashes back to seeing Kim in the park by Oscar’s memorial. He mentions he was there, and Elizabeth says, it’s a beautiful memorial to Oscar. Cameron volunteers for the upkeep. Franco says, that’s great. It’s good to know someone will be there to do right by Oscar when… Elizabeth says, when what? and Cameron says, when he’s gone. He’s leaving Port Charles, isn’t he?

Laura goes into Ava’s room at Shadybrook, and says, there’s somebody else who came to say hello. Ava says she doesn’t want to see anybody. Scotty says, but they have a special relationship where she abuses him, and he keeps coming back for more. Ava says he shouldn’t have come when she’s like this. He says she looks like a million bucks, instead of two million like usual. He puts a bag on the bed, and says he stopped by her apartment and got her some stuff from her vanity. Laura is surprised Scotty has a key to the penthouse, but he says, the doorman is on the take. Ava owes him twenty bucks. He’ll collect when she’s out. Ava asks if Laura told him that she’s crazy. She saw Nikolas.

Jax tells Nikolas it was a stupid risk to go to the MetroCourt. Nikolas says it’s been years since he’s shown his face to his mother, sister, and son. Jax says, if Valentin finds out, he’ll consolidate his position or eliminate him. Nikolas says the reason he’s there is because Jax invited his mother and Curtis to his hunting party. Jax says, Curtis is a professional, and doesn’t Nikolas trust his mother? Nikolas says he doesn’t trust Valentin. One wrong word…  He wants Jax to go to Ava’s gallery, but Jax says he’s not going unless he’s sure the portrait is there. He’ll get to Ava; it’s second on his list. Family comes first. Nikolas asks if his mother seems well, and Jax says he heard she had a rough year, but she came out stronger on the other side. Nikolas says, imagine how much better she’ll feel when she sees him again.

Lucas tells Josslyn that he’s no paragon. She says Brad used to be bad, but it’s in the past tense now. Lucas is lucky to have him and Wiley. Wiley is lucky to have both dads, so many of her friends have parents who are separated or divorced. Lucas asks if she thinks life would have been better if her parents had stayed together, and Josslyn says she loves Sonny. He says that’s not what he asked. He’s just curious if she thinks her life would have been different. She says she used to fantasize about it when she was younger, but that was before she knew better, and realized some things just aren’t meant to be. That doesn’t mean the things that replaced them can’t be good; it’s just different. She asks if he’s ever wishes that grandma and grandpa Tony hadn’t divorced, and he says, yeah. Lots of times.

Brad says Julian is inhuman. Yeah, really; I’m not liking this at all. Julian says he’s just a father protecting his son. Brad says by destroying his marriage, and creating false evidence that Brad is cheating when he never has? Julian says so he’s innocent for once? Given time, Brad would do something bad to drive Lucas away. He’s just speeding up the timeline. Consider it a mercy. Brad has his youth. He can pick up the pieces and start over, far away. Brad says he’s nothing without his family, and Julian says, not his problem. Brad is going to tell Lucas that he’s having an affair, and make it believable. Say his goodbyes and go count his blessings. Brad asks Julian thinks he’s doing him a favor. He’s making a mistake. Julian says he knows how to make it stick. Brad needs to leave before Lucas loses his son because of him. I say, don’t do it, Brad, and Brad goes outside.

Nikolas looks at information about Laura online. Like he hasn’t seen a computer before today.

Scotty says, Nikolas, huh? and Ava says he was wearing a mask. He says, a Halloween mask? and she asks if he’s being patronizing. He says, no. Hallucinations can freak you out. Laura says, Nikolas passed away. Remember? Ava was there, and saw Valentin kill him. Ava says, Valentin shot him. Nikolas fell out the window, and was swept out to sea. She can see it so clearly, but then last night, she saw him. How can both things be true? Laura says, they can’t be, and Ava says, then why can’t he be alive? Wouldn’t Laura rather she be wrong about Greece than wrong about right now. Laura says asks if it’s the first time Ava has seen someone who isn’t there, and Ava says she can’t trust her own eyes.

Cameron says that’s what Franco is doing. He’s there to say he’s leaving Port Charles. Franco says Kim’s stuff is in storage. They’re leaving tomorrow. Cameron says, just like that, and Franco says Elizabeth asked him not to leave without saying goodbye. He wanted to wait, and let things settle, but the longer he takes, the worse it is for everyone. He’s sorry it has to be this way. He doesn’t mean to hurt anyone. Cameron says, then don’t. He knows he’s been tough on Franco, and Franco doesn’t have to see him again, but just stay. Franco says that’s not the reason he’s leaving, and Cameron says, then why? Franco flashes back to finding Kim in the park. He says if he’d known Kim was coming, they could have come together. Kim asks, why? So he could witness more of her messiness, like at the hearing? He already thinks she’s broken. He says he thinks she’s beautiful and in pain, and he thinks she needs help. Kim tells him, so he said. She holds up her hands to keep him from coming closer, and says she’s thought about it a lot. She’s turned it over in her head, and he’s right. She needs help, but she can’t get it there in Port Charles. In the present, Franco says, staying there is hurtful for Kim, and she’s the only person left there that he knows. Cameron tells Franco, leaving will hurt everyone who knows him. Sitting on the couch, Elizabeth closes her eyes.

Carly tells Jax, she’d rather be doing anything else than telling Josslyn that she screwed up. She was in no shape to go to the dance. Jax asks how Carly would have known that, and she says, Josslyn lost the watch Oscar gave her, and she was so upset. Not just because she lost it, but it was three days before she missed it, and she felt guilty. It makes sense that she wanted to stop feeling and reached for a quick fix. Jax says, it’s just her way of growing up. Their job is to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Carly says, united front, and he agrees.

Lucas tells Josslyn that he used to think they didn’t try hard enough to make things work. That if it was important, you fight for it. That’s what a kid thinks, but he’s old enough now to know better. Some things you can’t get over. She guesses he’s right, and Jax pops out, saying, it’s time to face the music. Lucas says, whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and Josslyn says she’ll keep that in mind. She goes inside, and Jax asks how she’s feeling. She asks, what’s beyond embarrassed? and he says, mortified? She says, yeah, that’s it. He tells her, take a seat, and Carly says they’re going to talk about what happened, and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Brad comes up to the terrace, and tells Lucas the guard said he could come up. He supposes he should be grateful Carly hasn’t banned him from the property. He asks where Wiley is, and Lucas says, upstairs. Lucas tells Brad that he didn’t sleep well last night, and Brad says, neither did he. Lucas says he has to go to work, and Brad suggests he call in and say he’ll be late. Lucas asks, why? He has no intention of hearing Brad’s story. Brad says he didn’t cheat, but that’s what Lucas’s father wants him to believe. Julian set him up. My mouth actually falls open.

Carly wants to start by saying they’re incredibly grateful Josslyn is okay. They understand she’s upset about the lost watch, but she should have come to them, and not handled it by getting drunk at a school function. Jax says she could have fallen overboard, and Carly says, thank God she didn’t, but she knows the rules. Jax says she knows she’s too young to drink. Plus, she’s had a kidney transplant, and has to be even more careful. Carly says, when Josslyn is old enough to make that decision, she’ll have to weigh the risks, but she’s got years for that. Jax says it’s hard to trust her now.

Lucas says Brad has lost it, but Brad says, it’s true. Lucas can’t believe it. Every time Brad lies, his solution is a bigger lie. He tells Brad, don’t. He’s done. Brad says Julian sent the flowers. He convinced Brad to change his password, and had a guy send the photos. He admitted it. He saw Julian last night, and Julian told him everything. He’d gone to Julian to ask him for help proving he didn’t do anything, and Julian said, don’t bother. Lucas says Julian is Brad’s biggest supporter, and Brad says he thought so. But he wants them to break up, and made it happen. Lucas asks if he made Brad call out Michael’s name, and Brad says, no, but dreams are dreams. He did everything else. Julian gave him today to say he’s leaving town and never coming back. He set Brad up. Lucas asks why would his father want to break them up? and Brad says, because he found out about something Brad did.

Scotty tells Ava that he scooped up everything. She has three eye creams. She says he can use them if he likes. Laura excuses herself, and finds Julian in the waiting area. He asks how Ava is, and Laura says, right now, she’s calm. She’s sedated, and will probably be asleep soon. He asks if she said anything about last night, and Laura says, it was pretty much the same. She said she saw Nikolas, but today, she’s less sure. He says, good. The sooner she forgets that fantasy, the better. Ava tells Scotty that he’s always climbing out on a limb for her, and what does he get in return? Scotty says, out on a limb is where the fruit is. He enjoys her company. Ava says she knows she was insensitive when he told her what happened with Franco. Scotty says she was a little brutal. He’d lost his son, and she said she envied Franco’s second chance. She says she was wrong to say it. It was faulty logic. She thought Franco was getting something she wanted; a new chance, and a clean slate. But she was wrong. Franco didn’t need it. He’d already changed, and everybody knows. Scotty says she’s right, and also wrong. He did good before he did bad, but not everybody knows. Maybe it’s time to change that.

Franco says none of them asked for any of this. He’s doing the best he can. Cameron says, it really helps to know Franco is doing his best to blow up their family. He’ll be sure to tell Aiden and Jake that he’s out living his life, and the life they welcomed him into means nothing. Cameron slams out the door, and Franco says, he’ll be all right, right? Elizabeth says if she said no, would it change his mind? Franco flashes back to the park. He asks if Kim thinks uprooting her life is the best way to go, and she says, there’s nothing left to uproot. What’s the point? She has nothing left there. All that’s left are the memories of Oscar, and she’ll take those with her everywhere. Wherever she lands. He says she’s leaving with or without him? and she says, it’s not an ultimatum. If he wants to stay; if he feels he owes it to Elizabeth, she can’t blame him. She hopes he chooses to come, but if he doesn’t, he’s already given her more than she can repay. He gave her Oscar. Her once in a lifetime child. He puts his arm around her and she cries. In the present, Franco tells Elizabeth that he’s truly sorry for her and her family. They don’t deserve it. She says, neither does Franco. He says he’ll see her around, and she tells him to wait. She looks into his eyes, and kisses him. I say please, oh please, let it be like Sleeping Beauty and he wakes up. He’s not exactly not kissing her back.

Elizabeth looks at him, and says, Franco. She knows he’s still in there. Hear her. She’s done everything she knows to do. He needs to fight. He needs to do the rest, and come back like he promised. Franco says, he’s just not there. He wants to tell her different, but he can’t. He’s not the guy she wants him to be. Franco is gone. He leaves, and we all want to cry.

Julian says he was thinking about what Laura said, that she thinks this might be tied to a painting; the portrait of Helena she mentioned. She thinks if it’s there, it definitely has a bad influence on Ava. Scotty comes out, and says Ava would like a visit from Julian. Julian tells Laura that he’ll be in touch, and goes in. Laura asks how it went, and Scotty says better than he thought it would. She asks, how so? He gets a text from Franco, saying, I need to see you. Scotty says he’s got to deal with something, and he’ll catch her later. She says she has to be someplace anyway. Scotty calls Elizabeth, who tells him, Franco was just there. Scotty says Franco just texted him. He wants to get together. She says, to say goodbye. Franco said he’s leaving tomorrow with Kim. Scotty says, not if he has anything to say about it.

Lucas says, Brad did something bad? How bad? Brad says Obrecht made him use his position at the lab when Finn ordered another test for Sasha when she was sick. Obrecht thought the test would show Sasha wasn’t Nina’s daughter. Lucas asks Brad to tell him how Obrecht could make him do something. Brad says Obrecht saw he was wound up, and offered to get him anti-anxiety meds. He needed a hand, she was offering, and since she’s Britt’s mom, he never thought anything of it. Lucas says, he couldn’t wait? Brad says he tried. It took forever to get the appointment with Neil. Lucas says he risked his job, and prison to get drugs. Brad says Lucas has to believe him, but Lucas says he doesn’t have to believe anything. It sounds like Brad’s same old lies. He can’t believe his father would do something like this. Brad hits play on his phone, and they hear his conversation with Julian. Brad ask if Lucas believes him now.

Carly tells Josslyn that they need to know she’ll be making good decisions in the future. Her decisions don’t just affect her. Her sisters worship her. Avery and Donna will take their cues from her. Josslyn says she knows, and she’s sorry. She knows she messed up, and she’ll do better. Jax says, forgive them if they don’t take her word for it. Carly says, maybe after she’s grounded for two weeks, they’ll trust her. Jax takes her phone, giving her a flip phone, and Carly says she’ll use her computer downstairs to do her homework, there or in the kitchen, and the lock is coming off her door. Josslyn is surprised they’re doing all this over a few drinks at a dance, but Jax says, no more arguments. The more she argues, the more they think she doesn’t understand how serious this is. Josslyn says, they’re right; she’s sorry. Carly says they don’t like doubting her, but they’ll work together to regain trust. Josslyn asks if she can take a walk. She won’t leave the grounds, and needs time to think. Jax says, fine, and asks her passcode, but she’s gone. She opens the door, and Cameron is there.

Jax thinks they scared Josslyn straight, and Carly says she thought of another consequence. Jax thinks they came down hard enough, but she says, it’s not a punishment. Just a way to change Josslyn’s perspective. He says he’s all for that, and she says, good, because it involves him. She suggests Josslyn alternate between there and Jax’s new house. One week with her, and one with him.

Nikolas looks up Ava and the gallery online.

On the phone, Elizabeth asks Scotty if Franco is there yet. Scotty says, no. He’s in Oscar’s Meadow, but there’s no sign of Franco. She asks how he’s going to convince Franco to stay, and he says he’s going to fill in the blanks. Elizabeth says, what blanks? Does Scotty have a plan or not? Elizabeth’s doorbell rings, and she asks him to just tell her what he’s going to do. He says, if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, what’s the point? Elizabeth opens the door to find Kim. I’d slam it in her face. Obviously, I don’t care about Kim’s pain.

Franco thanks Scotty for meeting him. He has something to tell Scotty. Scotty says he has something to tell Franco too. I can’t wait to find out what that is.

Lucas asks what that’s supposed to be, and Brad says, proof that Julian framed him. He went to see Julian, giving him once last chance to let them be, but set his phone to record, just in case. Julian wouldn’t listen to reason. He said because Brad lied for Obrecht, so he couldn’t be trusted, and would wind up hurting Lucas and Wiley. He wanted to force Brad to leave, so Lucas would blame him and move on. Lucas asks why his dad wants to hurt him, and Brad says he thinks Julian is suffering. It’s affected his judgement. He’s lost Kim, and had to watch Ava slowly unravel. Julian is falling apart himself, but they can’t let him drag them down with him.

Julian tells Ava that he’s checking in to see how she’s doing. She says, don’t let anyone else in. She looks a fright. He says, Avery wouldn’t mind, and she says, like Sonny would let Avery within a mile of her. He tells her, don’t worry; he took care of it, and she says he’s the best brother in the world.

Cameron asks if Josslyn’s parents are home. He feels like he should apologize. Josslyn says, this is so not the time. In the other room, Jax says Carly wants Josslyn to move in. Carly thinks the more face time he has with Josslyn, he might catch what she misses. Jax thinks they should table the idea for now, and she asks if he doesn’t want Josslyn to live with him. He says he does, but thinks they should focus on what got Josslyn to drink, and her grief over losing Oscar. She refused therapy, but he thinks now is the time to bring in professional help. When they get Josslyn through that, then they can talk about her moving in.

Nikolas is looking at the laptop, and the doorbell rings.

Julian says he’ll be back, and tells Ava to sleep. She asks him to look under bed before he leaves. He does, and says, just dust bunnies. She thanks him, and asks if he’s really there. He says she’s not dreaming; he’s real. She says, sometimes it’s hard to tell. He tells her that he loves her, and to rest. Everything will be okay.

Jax’s doorbell continues to ring. Nikolas walks toward the door, and Laura asks if Jax is there. They need to talk.

Tomorrow, Hayden tells Finn that they’ll work it out, Kim tells Elizabeth it’s long overdue, and Robert tells Cassandra it’s the only deal she’s going to get.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

Riding together in the car, Shannon tells Tamra that she’s still recovering. She went out with Braunwyn and Gina after the party. Tamra says she’s leaving at 6 am for Scottsdale. Shannon asks how Kelly is feeling, but Tamra hasn’t talked to her. Shannon says if someone said they’d love to attend her funeral or Tamra’s, she’d be crying like Vicki did. We flash back to Vicki’s reaction at hearing Kelly would like to attend her funeral. Tamra says that’s just how Kelly talks, but Shannon feels like Kelly is given a pass for that. She’s a smart girl, and knows she shouldn’t say certain things. Tamra says Vicki telling the world that Kelly is a coke addict and pulled a train is life altering. She’d also said David beat Shannon, so they’ve been on the other side. In Shannon’s interview, she says she’s frustrated, because it’s been up and down with Tamra. In Tamra’s interview, she thinks she’s more compassionate than Shannon. Shannon sees everything in black and white, while Tamra gives them the benefit of the doubt. She tells Shannon, it’s hard to pick a side.

Kelly can’t find the dog food, and gives her two dogs chicken soup. Jolie protests that it’s people food, but Kelly says, it’s organic. And I actually agree with her on this one. IMO, most people food is fine, as long as it’s clean and not processed. In Kelly’s interview, she says it’s hard taking care of geriatric dogs by herself. She has to take them for quite a few walks a day, and give them pills. She knows what Steve must feel like taking care of Vicki. I literally lol. Kelly says she’s going to dinner with Shannon and Tamra; there was drama again with the women. We flash back to Kelly being on the phone with Braunwyn. Kelly tells Jolie that she doesn’t like Vicki, so she didn’t want to go to her birthday party. Does that make her bad? Jolie says, no; she wouldn’t do it. Someone in her class that no one likes just invited her to a party. In her interview, Kelly says she feels like she’s back in childhood. There’s more to life than talking about Kelly. Kelly suggests Jolie decline the invite on Monday, since no one likes Monday.

Tamra asks what Shannon wants to come out of a discussion with Kelly. Shannon wants to tell Kelly that it’s not a good look. People are commenting. Tamra suggests approaching her as a friend who wants to help her. Shannon asks if Tamra thinks Kelly will get mad, and Tamra says, she’s going to explode.

Gina goes to see therapist Lynnette. Gina says she’s doing good. She’s surprised she pulled it together with Matt, but they went to dinner. She hadn’t seen him in forever, and one thing led to another. She slept with her husband. Lynette asks if Gina is feeling positive about that. I have to stop and mention Gina’s hair. She has her hair piled on her head, and since she did this platinum thing, it looks like she has grey roots. No. Just no. It was no before, and it’s still no. Gina says part of her feels that she wants to get it together. Matt has guilt, and he’s eager to repair the damage. Lynette asks if her fear is that it’s just for her kids. Gina wonders what if Matt does it again and stops showing up? In Gina’s interview, she says the problem is, she doesn’t know if it’s better for her or the kids if she’s with Matt or not. She’s scared to leave, but she’s scared to stay in a relationship that doesn’t work. She tells Lynette that Matt tries to make her feel guilty. He thinks he can float right back into their lives. Lynette says Gina  thinks she’s selfish if she doesn’t want to do it for her family, but divorces doesn’t have to hurt the kids. Her daughter had a sensory meltdown because of the emotional overload. We flash back to Gina taking her daughter to the therapist. Gina says she’s going to Palm Springs for the weekend, and doesn’t want to hurt Matt or make him angry. Lynette says Gina was hurt by lies, so it’s important to her not to lie. Gina says Matt runs hot, and she’s always nervous about his reactions. He always gives her a hard time about seeing someone else, and gets in her head. It’s complicated.

Tamra and Shannon meet Kelly for lunch at Driftwood Kitchen. Tamra wonders if Kelly will be in a feisty mood. She and Shannon arrive first, and order drinks, then Kelly joins them. Kelly tells Shannon that she looks pretty, and Shannon says, this is what a hangover looks like. Omg, my good days don’t look that good. Did she get an IV? Kelly says she heard that Tamra was talking sh*t about her. Braunwyn called her after the party. Tamra doesn’t understand Braunwyn’s motivation to call. Kelly says Tamra claimed Braunwyn was talking smack about her. Tamra says there was a lot of chatter about Kelly not being there, and Braunwyn was the ringleader. Shannon tells Kelly that Braunwyn brought up the fight she and Brian had. Kelly says Brian showed her a text at an inappropriate time, she told him it was inappropriate, and they immediately left because they didn’t want to fight in front of the kids. Tamra says Braunwyn made it sound like they fought in front of the kids. We flash back to that, and apparently, Tamra is making it up as she goes along, since Braunwyn said no such thing. Kelly wants to call Braunwyn. She does, and immediately launches into saying she was told Braunwyn brought up the Brian thing, and acted like Kelly didn’t leave with him. Braunwyn says she didn’t bring it up, and Tamra gets on the phone, saying Braunwyn brought up the situation at Vicki’s party. Braunwyn repeats that she didn’t bring it up. Shannon says Emily asked if Kelly and Brian broke up, and Braunwyn said they got into a fight. We flash back to the party again. Braunwyn says she always has Kelly’s back, but Kelly says Braunwyn shouldn’t have brought up her business to anyone. Braunwyn insists she didn’t, but Tamra says Braunwyn can’t say  she didn’t say what she said. Braunwyn says she did say that, but she didn’t bring it up. That’s two different things; she didn’t start the conversation. Braunwyn refuses to get steamrolled, and Tamra says she’s not. The truth is the truth is the truth. Please. Tamra wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her in the ass. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says she thought she’d explain the fight, because it was less bad than the story going around. She was attempting to make it better, and once again, made it worse. Kelly says she’s never said anything bad about Braunwyn to anyone, and Tamra tells her, hang up. Braunwyn tells them, she’s not saying a word from now on, and Kelly says, okay, and hangs up. Tamra says it started with Braunwyn, then Emily, Gina, and Vicki were talking. She walked away and called Kelly. She felt uncomfortable, but everyone was talking about how Kelly had been acting. Sometimes her delivery is hard. Kelly says she’s been bashed for situations she’s joking about. She was joking about Vicki. Shannon says she got upset, and Kelly says she was being facetious. It’s asinine. Shannon doesn’t think death should be joked about, and Kelly says, it was a play on words. Um… does she know what that is? In Kelly’s interview, she says none of the women get her humor. You have to be smart to get… what’s the word? Sarcasm. You also have to be smart to understand Kelly’s alternate use of commonplace terms. Shannon says Tamra told everyone about a where Kelly broke someone’s hand. Kelly tells her, STFU. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. Why was it brought up? Shannon says, Tamra brought it up, and we flash back to that. Tamra says she told Shannon, but Shannon brought it up at the table. Kelly says she told Tamra in confidence. In Kelly’s interview, she says she and a girl who’s a friend of Brian’s got in an altercation at a bar, and she defended herself. The girl invaded Kelly’s personal space, so she threw the girl’s hand off. Shannon says she’s Kelly’s friend, but Kelly says she’s not, and she’s sick of everyone attacking her. She starts to cry, and Shannon says she understands. Kelly was there for her when she was lashing out. We see a clip of Shannon telling Kelly that David says she’s selfish, worthless, and fat; and Kelly saying she’s none of those things. Shannon knows Kelly has a loving, caring kind heart, and wants everyone to see that. Tamra tells Kelly not to feel they’re against her, and Shannon says they want to see the best version of Kelly. In Kelly’s interview, she says she doesn’t know who to trust. She’s constantly questioning their friendship. Shannon has to go, because her kids have a play.

Braunwyn meets Emily for paddle boarding. She encourages Emily to try standing, and at first, that’s a no. Braunwyn tells her, just try it, but run into the cheap boats. Braunwyn says she needs to keep a sturdy core, and Emily says that’s the problem, and she keeps running into stuff. Braunwyn tells her, it’s hard to steer the first few times. She says she and her family spend the summers in Hawaii, and they’re members at the beach club she and Emily are at. Braunwyn mem there tells her about the phone call, and Emily wonders why bring up the fight? Braunwyn says she didn’t; Tamra is a liar. Emily says Braunwyn did say something because Kelly wasn’t there, but Emily felt like Braunwyn was trying to mitigate the situation. Braunwyn says she’s not used to a group of women who take what you say, and twist it to make it seem malicious, like you did something wrong. Emily says Braunwyn has to know the truth and who she is. If she doesn’t stand up just to avoid conflict, they’ll eat her alive. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says it’s easy to stand up for the people she cares about. Standing up for herself is hard, but she doesn’t want to lose her friendship with Kelly because she’s too shy or uncomfortable to stand up for herself. Emily says she remembers who said what. Braunwyn say she wants to do dinner with them. In her interview, Braunwyn says, Emily is a lawyer and she was sober. She knows what happened. The rest of them are cloudy.

Shannon cooks, and hangs out with Sophie in the kitchen. Adeline and Bella join them. In Shannon’s interview, she says it’s hard having one week on and one off with the kids. It’s a huge adjustment from seeing the kids every day, but compared to last year, they’re in a good place. Adeline whines about the random drug tests Shannon does, but Shannon says it gives her an out. If kids offer her drugs, she can just say her crazy mom tests her. In her interview, Shannon says these are the years to watch the kids like a hawk. She feels that she’s stricter than David. Hopefully, someday they’ll understand that she was tough because she loves them. She tells Adeline that she has a breathalyzer too. She just hasn’t used it yet.

Gina take her kids to haircuts. In her interview, she says it’s scary, raising three small children alone, and having the major role of primary parent. It’s exhausting. She can’t get sick or take a break; there’s no time off. She hasn’t had a nap in eight years. She feels sad for her kids. Her parents had a great marriage, as did Matt’s. It’s all they’ve seen or known. She asks them if they’re like it if mommy and daddy were back together (I hear the wrong answer buzz – why is she doing that?). Of course they say they would, and in her interview, Gina says she feels guilty that she’s not giving them that. She wanted to be great wife and mom, and feels like a failure. In the parking lot, one of the kids gets looney, and she tells him that he’s being disrespectful. She won’t have it.

Emily and Shane go out to dinner, and she asks if he’s excited to be on date night. He says he’s thinking, because he can’t say anything that’s not sarcastic or a joke, and finally says, yes. In Emily’s interview, she says Shane made an effort in Vegas, and she appreciated that. They had a good time, but when they came home, they had the same problems with their marriage. The fundamental issue isn’t going to be fixed by a surprise trip. He teases her with the bread bowl, saying he’s going to tempt her, and I want to smack him. In her interview, she says, everything is a joke to him. This is a serious issue. She’s gained a lot of weight. We see a clip of her telling a trainer that she’s gained twenty pounds in eight months. She wants to be able to play with her kids, and not feel like crap. Shane orders French fries just to bug Emily. Emily says she doesn’t need jokes; she needs support. She wants to do more family things. There’s a lot of separation. Shane agrees, but says that includes her. She can’t be saying she’s hung up with her friends. She says she rarely does that, and adds they need to fight less in front of the kids. Shane says they should fight zero. Emily says she was thinking they should go back to couples therapy, but he says, no. She says they went before, and went consistently. Shane says she didn’t want go, so he went by himself. Why now? Emily tells him that he keeps saying she’s not nice, and he says they can save the therapy money; just be nice. In her interview, Emily says she quit going because there was no self-awareness or change on Shane’s part. Shane says she has to show commitment, then he’ll join her. She asks why it has to be 100% on her, and he says last time, she stopped showing up or she would cancel. Emily says she understands she has anger, and lashes out a lot of the time, but he says things that push her there. He comes off as condescending. Shane says if she thinks it’s worthwhile, no one is stopping her, but she says she wants to do it together. He says he’s done. In Emily’s interview, she says for the last ten years, she’s had a problem with the way Shane talks to her. it’s what she’s dealing with every day. She cries, and says she has little kids. This is hard. She doesn’t know what to do.

The women meet for lunch, minus Tamra and Gina (and Vicki, but she’s just a friend now). In Braunwyn’s interview, she says she’s a pleaser. She’s trying please everyone to her own detriment. She was called a liar, and that is not okay; she’s pissed. Shannon points out there’s one handsome man at the bar, and Kelly says it’s like Shannon has radar. In Shannon’s interview, she says she doesn’t hunt men at the bar. She’ll have a conversation with someone who comes up to her, but she won’t be <air quotes> the man in the situation. Kelly tells Braunwyn that she told the women that she and Brian had a fight in front of the kids. Emily says Braunwyn didn’t say that. Kelly says Braunwyn made it sound like she stayed and partied while Brian and the kids left. Shannon say she did give the impression that Kelly wanted to stay. Emily says the topic came up because Kelly wasn’t there, and she’d asked if Kelly and Brian were okay. She’d seen on Instagram that Kelly had removed a picture, and that’s how it got brought up. Braunwyn says she was there, and saw that Kelly avoided an altercation because Brian’s son was there, and she didn’t want to do that in front of him. We see more clips from Vicki’s party. Braunwyn says she thought she’d make the situation better. Kelly sees now that Braunwyn was sticking up for her. In Kelly’s interview, she says she feels bad that she yelled at Braunwyn. She should been the bigger person, and come with love, not daggers. I see she’s Kahlil Gibran now. Kelly thinks it’s part of Tamra’s pattern. She likes to throw little bombs and walk away. Emily wonders why it even came up that Braunwyn was saying bad things. Kelly says Braunwyn called her and said people were bashing her, and Tamra said it was Braunwyn bashing Kelly. Braunwyn says, it was Tamra who said the word train. We flash back to when Vicki said there was a rumor, and Tamra reminded her of what that rumor was – at a table full of people. In her interview, Kelly says, Tamra was the one who was actually spreading the train rumor. She had no idea. She thought it was Vicki. She’s completely shocked and disappointed, and it makes her sick to her stomach that she trusted Tamra. Tamra acted like she was best friends with Emily, when Gina was mad at her, and Tamra talked smack to Gina, instead of facilitating a positive outcome. Emily says Tamra causes a problem, then acts like she has clean hands. Braunwyn says, Tamra is trying to come between them. She’s manipulating them, so they’re fighting among themselves. Kelly says Tamra has been talking smack about Shannon too. Shannon doesn’t believe it. In Shannon’s interview, she says Tamra is one of her best friends, and she’s not comfortable with people saying negative things. She doesn’t want anything negative in her life. Kelly tells Shannon that she doesn’t think Tamra has her back 100%. She’s had hours of conversation with Tamra about Shannon. Shannon asks if Kelly is serious, and Kelly nods.

We see clips of Tamra talking about Shannon. Shannon asks again if Kelly is serious; it’s negative? Kelly says Tamra claims Shannon is always kissing every guy at the bar. She suggested that she, Kelly, and Gina just room together on the next trip, and when Kelly bonked Shannon on the head, Tamra said there was nothing wrong with her. She’s constantly judging, and saying Shannon put on weight again. In Shannon’s interview, she says she feels like the wind has been knocked out of her. She has gained weight, and talked to Tamra about it. How would Kelly know? Tamra really must be talking about her. Braunwyn says Tamra is supposed to be Shannon’s best friend. Shannon says she is, even though last year they went to hell and back. We see clips of Tamra berating Shannon, and in Shannon’s interview, she says when she hears these comments, it opens up old wounds. Emily says Shannon told Tamra in confidence, and trusted her. Shannon says, not anymore. Kelly says, Tamra is two-faced. Shannon wants to cry, and everyone tells her, don’t. Shannon says they talk ten times a day. She feels like she needs to talk to Tamra, and Kelly asks what she’s going to do. She and Tamra talked last year. Did anything change? We see a clip from the reunion, where Tamra is saying Shannon is all about herself, and claims to be victim. Shannon says there will be an excuse, a reason, she’ll deny it, she doesn’t remember. In Kelly’s interview, she says she knew damn well who Tamra was, and didn’t go with her gut. Tamra is a snake. She sneaks around, pumping her venom into people. Vicki is a pig, and Tamra is a snake. Shannon says she’s fighting it; she’s not crying anymore. What Tamra is saying hurts.

Emily asks where they go from here. Shannon says she needs to have a conversation with Tamra, and Kelly says she would want to, but she knows the outcome. Emily says, it’s not going to stop. It’s who she is.

Next time, Gina talks to Tamra about Shannon, Kelly wants Jolie to see her grandma, Emily says Kelly needs to have a conversation with her mother, Tamra wonders what’s up with Kelly, and thinks Shannon is behind it. I’ll tell you what I think. Tamra isn’t a Christian; she’s more like Satan’s sister. She encourages someone to be an a-hole, then points her finger, saying, look at what you did. She infuriates me, and I’m glad we don’t live on the same coast.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Still at the MetroCourt, Valentin asks how Nina is feeling. She says, mostly relived, and a touch frustrated because Sasha won’t pay for what she’s done. Valentin says, it’s time to celebrate. He suggests getting a bottle of their finest champagne, and seeing where the evening takes them. He goes to the bar, and Jordan and Curtis walk in. Nina asks why she hasn’t seen them, and Jordan says they were out on the terrace. Curtis says he hasn’t heard from Nina in a while, and Nina says, things have been busy. Curtis felt that maybe she needed space, and Jordan asks how she’s holding up without Valentin.

Sasha and Michael have changed out of their costumes, and go to Charlie’s. Michael wonders if Sasha thinks he went too far with Valentin, but she says if it wasn’t for him, she doesn’t think Nina would have dropped the charges. Michael says Sasha is the reason Valentin is walking away unscathed, and Sasha says she’s protective of Nina’s feelings. She tells Michael that he was impressive and hot, and she owes him one. He gave her life back to her. Now if she only knew what do with it. Peter and Maxie come in, and Peter says James is enjoying his time with Brad and Lucas. Maxie says, he gets treated like royalty there. Peter says, now for the adult part of her birthday, and asks if she wants a drink. She does, and kisses him. Obrecht comes out, and tells them to get a room. She tells Maxie that she hasn’t seen James in a while, but Peter says, it’s not the best time. Obrecht can understand why Maxie has been standoffish, since she was supposedly involved in Sasha’s lies. Maxie says, it was horrible, and Obrecht admits to knowing Sasha was a fraud, but she only found out shortly before the wedding. She wanted to protect Nina’s heart. Her actions were misguided, but her heart was pure.

Sonny tells Carly, it’s been a long night. Carly says Brad and Lucas are still there on the terrace. He suggests asking them to leave, but she says A, that would be rude, and B, she senses they’re in the middle of something. Outside, Lucas tells Brad to admit it. Who the hell are the nude pictures from? Is he saying it was an accident? Brad says, yes, and Lucas asks if he hears how ridiculous it sounds. Brad doesn’t know what to say or who the guy is. All he knows is that he’s not cheating.

Laura goes back to Julian’s office with him. She says she knows it’s not easy. Julian says he could use a drink, and Laura says, make it two. She asks if he’s sure he’s all right, and Julian says, no, but he’ll get there. He’s glad Ava is getting the help she needs, but wishes he’d gotten her to Shadybrook sooner before she imagined Nikolas in the gallery. He asks how Laura is holding up, and she says it’s not easy on her. It’s never easy for her to bring up Nikolas. He’s been gone for more than two years, but it’s just as painful as it ever was.

Nikolas asks Hayden if she’s happy to see him, and Hayden asks what he was thinking to show himself to Ava. He was supposed to stay in hiding until they found the codicil. Nikolas says their current tactic involves his mother; what genius thought of that? Jax says, she’s doing it for Spencer, but Nikolas says he was clear. He didn’t want to show himself to his mother or son before Valentin was neutralized.

Carly tells Sonny that her brother is probably reading Brad the riot act for being close to Nelle. She can’t believe Brad went to her parole hearing. Sonny says it’s none of their business. On the terrace, Brad asks Lucas not to do this there. Let’s go home. Lucas says he’s not looking other way when Brad gets nude pictures from some guy. Brad asks if Lucas wants him to text back to prove he doesn’t know them. They’re probably going to be mortified that they sent the pictures to the wrong person.

Julian wonders why Ava would be imagining Nikolas now, and Laura says she has a theory. Valentin got rid of a portrait of Helena recently, and she’s pretty sure it ended up at the gallery. Maybe seeing it reminded her of all things Cassadine, Nikolas included. Julian’s phone dings. He looks at it, and a text from Brad asks, who is this? Who sent these? Hello???

Michael toasts to whatever’s next. Whatever it is, he hopes it doesn’t take her away from Port Charles. Sasha says, it would be easier for Nina, but he says, not for him.

Obrecht tells Maxie, after the truth came out, she knew she’d be blamed for staying silent, or accused of being a co-conspirator. So she arranged an extended stay in Switzerland. Peter didn’t tell her? Maxie says, no, and Obrecht says he convinced her to stay. Peter says she’s important to Maxie, and part of James’s family. Obrecht asks Maxie to please say she’s still family. Maxie says she’s forgiven Obrecht for worse. She’s James’s oma, and a part of Nathan. She’ll always be family. They hug, and Obrecht says it means the world to her. Does Maxie think Nina could find it in her heart to forgive her too?

Jordan says her office advised her that Nina dropped the charges against Sasha, and Nina confirms she did. Curtis says, that was decent, since Sasha was just a pawn acting on orders. Valentin returns to the table, and says he sees they have company. Curtis says, you’ve got to be kidding, and Valentin says it’s good to see him after that debacle of a wedding they had.

Hayden tells Nikolas he needs to stay and wait, but he thinks he’s done more than enough waiting. He’s been waiting since he was rescued from the water. Jax says Nikolas is the one who reached out to him with an attractive offer. When it stops being attractive, he’s out.  Nikolas flashes back to meeting with Jax. Jax hears a voice asking if Rome isn’t spectacular, and he says he doesn’t take meetings with a disembodied voice. Show himself, or Jax is leaving. Nikolas comes out, and Jax says, not so dead after all. Nikolas says, not for lack of trying on Valentin’s part, and Jax says he heard how Valentin murdered Nikolas, and Nikolas says, clearly not. It’s taken years for him to position himself, and now he’s ready to reclaim what’s his. Jax wishes him good luck, but Nikolas says, it will take more than luck. He needs Jax’s help, and he’s willing to pay. In the present, Nikolas thinks they should all take a step back. Jax agrees. It’s time rethink things.

Jax says Nikolas agreed to stay in a place of his choice until he and Hayden found the codicil. Nikolas said if Valentin found out, he could do something desperate. Nikolas says he was careful to conceal himself, and Jax says, wearing a mask? Nikolas says it’s commonplace on Halloween. That’s why he went to the gallery to retrieve the portrait. Jax says Ava saw him briefly, but Nikolas says before she woke, he was long gone. Hayden says now they’ll have to wait for possible blowback. Jax says Ava told Nikolas’s mother, and Nikolas says that’s why he didn’t want his mother involved. Jax says Laura thinks Ava had a nervous breakdown, and so does Ava. She thinks she was hallucinating. Nikolas says, no one believes anything Ava has to say. He’s safe. Ava betrayed him. She was supposed to testify that Valentin murdered him, but she recanted her testimony. She deserves whatever she gets.

Curtis says Nina and Valentin are back together? and Jordan adds, after what he did? Nina says, Valentin had no idea; Sasha played the both of them. Curtis says, that’s what Valentin told her? and she says, Sasha told her. Curtis says Nina knew how he’d feel about her getting back with Valentin. Now he gets why Nina has been avoiding him.

Sasha tells Michael that she doesn’t want to be away from him. He suggests she make a life there, but she says, it’s not easy. Michael says he can be of help to her. Obrecht comes by and says she needs to speak to Sasha – privately. Sasha says, Michael knows everything; whatever Obrecht has to say, she can say in front of him. Obrecht says Sasha knows she kept her hands clean. What did Sasha tell Nina about  her involvement in Sasha’s subterfuge? Sasha says she took the blame; Obrecht had nothing to do with it. Nina just agreed to drop the charges. Obrecht wonders if Nina ever asked about the fake DNA test, and Sasha says as far as she knows, Obrecht wasn’t involved. Obrecht says, when Sasha had the flu, Finn – why is it always him? – ran a test that could have exposed Sasha. She may have arranged some influence over the result. Michael says Sasha can’t help Obrecht cover her tracks. She has to go to whoever she helped.

Julian thanks Laura for being kind to Ava, and Laura says she’s had her own bouts of mental illness over the years. Julian didn’t realize, and Laura says she missed a whole part of her life that she fought hard to recover. It made her a better person and mother, and she thinks it will do the same for Ava. Julian doubts Sonny agrees. It’s a perfect set-up for him to go for full custody.

Carly wonders if she should go outside, and Sonny says there’s not much she can do to help. Carly says he’s right, and she doesn’t want Brad to feel ganged up on. Sonny tells her to let them work it out. Carly hopes they do it fast. It’s been a long day.

Brad hands Lucas his phone, saying Lucas can look; full transparency. Lucas says, better late than never. He looks at the phone, and Brad asks if it’s him. Lucas says, yeah, and Brad asks what he said. Lucas reads, ha-ha! you know who it is. Brad says they’ve clearly confused him with someone else, and Brad tells him, give it up. He got caught. Brad says he didn’t do anything. He’d never jeopardize their marriage. He reaches to touch Lucas, who backs up. Brad swears on Wiley; he’d never cheat on Lucas. Doesn’t Lucas believe him?

Obrecht tells Maxie that she’s off. They’re free to commence canoodling. Maxie says that’s why she can’t quit Obrecht. Who says things like that? Obrecht thanks Maxie. She’s glad they’re in a good place. Maxie says, her too. James misses her, and she asks if Obrecht wants to come see him tomorrow. Obrecht says, absolutely. She’ll bring strudel. She leaves, and Maxie tells Peter that he’s deep in his phone zone again. Didn’t they just have a fight about that? Peter says, they did, and she says the Franco/Drew hearing is over. What’s captured his attention now?

Michael asks if there’s any chance Sasha might be interested in working at ELQ. Sasha says it would change their dynamic. Making it on her own is important for her. Michael says then it’s important to him too. They gaze into each other’s eyes.

Laura says, everything happened so fast, she didn’t consider Avery’s custody might be affected. Julian says, now is Sonny’s chance to take Avery away from Ava. Laura says she and Sonny are good friends. She can talk to him, but Julian says, now is not the time to kick up the hornet’s nest. He’ll think of something. Laura says, there’s no need. She can do this.

Obrecht sends Brad a text saying they have to make sure to cover their tracks.

Brad asks Lucas, why would he risk their whole life together for a random guy? It’s just a misunderstanding. He’ll prove it. Please, Lucas has to believe him. He loves Lucas so much. Brad’s phone dings, and Brad looks at it and frowns. Lucas asks, is it him? Brad sees Obrecht’s message saying they have to cover their tracks in the recent fixing of the Gilmore girl’s test. Lucas asks again, is it him? and Brad says, no. Lucas says, let him see, but Brad says, it’s confidential about a patient. Lucas says he’s a doctor, and has access to the same information, but Brad says, it’s a special case. Lucas laughs, and says, of course (🍷) it is. Is it more pictures? Brad says he can explain, but Lucas says he can’t do this anymore tonight. He can’t; just go. Lucas can’t deal with him anymore tonight. Brad says, don’t do this, but Lucas says, go! Brad walks through the room in tears, past Sonny and Carly. Sonny asks, what’s going on? and Brad says, nothing; sorry; goodnight, and jets.

Valentin says he senses hostility, but Nina tells Curtis, don’t worry. She knows what she’s doing. Curtis says they’ll always be friends, especially on the day Valentin gets his due. He’ll always be there. Jordan tells them, enjoy their evening. Curtis steers her out, and she asks where they’re going. He says they’re going to do what they do best. I have no clue if he means detective work or getting busy.

Jax says far be it from him to defend Ava, and Nikolas says, then don’t. Hayden says she’s been helping him, and he says she knew what she stood to gain. Nikolas flashes back again. He tells Jax that he wants to return the estate to its rightful heir. The codicil is hidden on Spoon Island. He can’t search for it, and Jax says, Nikolas wants him to? Nikolas says he’s well-respected, and has a daughter there. He has every reason to go back. Jax asks what’s in it for him? and Nikolas says, the shipping division in Cassadine Industries, but Jax says their family feuds are unpredictable and rarely profitable, but he’d like Spencer to have the fortune he’s entitled to. Nikolas says, conscientious of him, and Jax says he’d once claimed Spencer as his own. He’ll never forget the four months he had with Spencer. Nikolas is sure that Jax has Spencer’s best interests at heart, and asks if they have a deal. Jaz says, for Spencer’s sake. But he will take the shipping division. Nikolas wants to present the third member of their venture, and says, you can come out now. Hayden comes out, and Nikolas introduces her to Jax, saying, this is his new partner. In the present, Hayden says she promised to do everything in her power for Spencer. Have no fear, dear husband, we will.

Jax asks if they’ve figured out how to resolve their marital situation, but Hayden says, not yet. It’s tricky, divorcing a dead man. Nikolas says they had a less than healthy relationship, and Hayden says, understood, but here they are joining forces. Nikolas flashes back to Hayden telling Jax that Nikolas tried to have her killed, but they’re still married. Nikolas says, technically, she’s his wife and widow. Jax asks if Nikolas trusts Hayden 100%, and Nikolas says, she’s always had a soft spot for Spencer, and when they uncover the codicil, she’ll get a generous cut of the fortune. In the present, Hayden says she had reservations about working with Nikolas, and him showing up doesn’t inspire confidence. Nikolas says he’s going to take what’s his back, and leave Valentin with nothing.

Valentin and Nina toast to everything falling into place. Obrecht approaches their table, and says it’s good to see her lovely niece. She was told Nina has chosen not to pursue the charges against Sasha, and wants Nina to know she had nothing to do with Sasha’s plan. She only knew Sasha was a fraud for a short time before Lulu overheard them talking. Nina says she believes Obrecht, and Obrecht says she’s most grateful. Consider this a formal apology for not telling Nina immediately. She wants to get back to where they were before the whole saga erupted. It would mean so much her.

Peter tells Maxie that he put his phone on silent and away, so they can focus on her birthday. She says he didn’t answer her question. Why is he attached to his phone? He says he was hoping to have one more present for her. One that she wants. She asks if he’s talking about what she thinks.

Sasha tells Michael that she has a solid resume in tech. Michael says he could get her an interview at the MetroCourt, but she says she won’t let him pressure his mom. He says his mom likes her, and she says, to a point. Carly doesn’t trust her, and Sasha doesn’t blame her. The surest way to alienate Carly is to let Michael pull strings for her.

Laura apologizes to Sonny for dropping in so late, but he says she’s always welcome. She hopes he still feels that way after he finds out what she’s there to talk to him about. She knows Ava is supposed to pick up Avery tomorrow, but it’s not happening. He asks, how come? and Laura says, Ava was involved in an incident at the gallery, and voluntary checked herself into Shadybrook. Sonny says, it’s the best thing for her. She’s been heading for trouble for a long time, since Kiki was killed. Laura repeats that Ava went voluntarily, but Sonny says it makes him wonder if she should be allowed near Avery in her state of mind.

Carly asks Lucas if everything is okay. They saw Brad take off. Lucas says, good, and she asks, what’s going on? He says Brad is cheating on him.

Julian ponders, and Brad flies in, saying thank God Julian is there. He and Lucas got in a big fight, and Lucas kicked him out. He’s convinced Brad is having an affair. Julian says, he’s not? and Brad says, never. Julian says he thought Brad would, and Brad asks how Julian can say that. Julian says, it all adds up. He got caught yelling Michael’s name in his sleep; he’s seeing a shrink and getting meds; and a secret admirer sent him flowers. Then he changed his password. Brad says Julian convinced him to change it. Julian says, and someone is sending Brad nude photos. Brad asks how he knew, and Julian taps his phone. Brad says, it was him? Why? Why is Julian doing this to him?

Peter asks what Maxie thinks he’s talking about, and she says their dream apartment. He says he put a bid on it, and Lucy was supposed to call back shortly. He was hoping she’d call before dinner. Maxie wonders what’s taking so long, and he says the board is taking a closer look at his application. Maxie says, co-op boards are notoriously strict, but Peter says he can see why he’d be a hard sell. They want to keep the building trouble free and tranquil. She says, he is, but he says, not everyone thinks so. His phone rings, and he says, it’s Lucy.

Sasha tells Michael, there’s only one way to get back in his parents’ good graces on her own; to work hard and prove herself. She’s ready. Michael says he knows a woman who’s ready to hire her, and Sasha says, she knows. Lucy. But Sasha doesn’t like the idea of being the face of Deception. The idea of capitalizing on what she did to Nina feels wrong. He thinks she should tell Lucy; she’ll understand.

Laura tells Sonny that Julian is afraid he’s going to use Ava’s illness against her to try and get full custody. She was in the same situation once, and she’s glad she didn’t lose her children over that. Sonny is sympathetic to all that, but right now Ava isn’t equipped to take care of Avery. Laura says, right now. The situation is temporary. Tell her that he’s not going to use it as an excuse to take Ava’s daughter away.

Carly tells Lucas, a lot of Brad’s behavior sounds shady, but it doesn’t prove Brad is having an affair. Lucas says, he’s been acting weird for over a year. When he asked what Brad was doing, he caught Brad holding on to a big secret.

Brad asks why Julian is turning on him, and Julian says Brad is spiraling, and constantly putting their secret in jeopardy. He’s calling out Michael’s name in his sleep, so Julian is cleaning things up. He staged the affair to protect Lucas. It will hurt Lucas less than the truth coming out. He wants Brad to leave town with his imaginary lover, and get as far away from his son as possible.

At the hospital, Jordan tells Curtis when he said they were going to do what they do best, she thought he meant something more intimate, not checking lab results at GH. He says he has to find out how Valentin got away with doing it. She says he could do it tomorrow, but he says, it can’t wait. Jordan says, so it will prove Sasha’s not Nina’s daughter; then what? Curtis says they’ll keep digging. A technician comes out, and hands Curtis an envelope.

Obrecht tells Nina that Maxie has forgiven her for not speaking up sooner. She hopes Nina will do the same in time. They have a small family, and Nathan would want them stick together, if only for his son. Nina says she’d like to put the whole ugly mess behind her, and move on as a family again. For James’s sake. Obrecht says, yes, and they hug. Valentin stares at Obrecht.

Hayden says Nikolas can’t be serious. He’s considering staying? Nikolas says he’s decided, and Jax says he never agreed to hide Nikolas. Nikolas says Jax is free to walk away any time, but where does that leave Spencer and Nina?

Sonny tells Laura that he and Carly will take good care of Avery while Ava is recuperating. She says she doesn’t hear Sonny saying he won’t go for full custody, and he says he’s not sure. He asks when Laura joined team Ava, and she says she didn’t. That’s not what’s happening here. Ava has been though sheer hell, and Laura can’t help but feel for her. She’s suffered the worst kind of loss; she doesn’t have to tell Sonny that. He thanks her for stopping by, and she thanks him for listening. He says, always, and she leaves.

Carly says, if Brad is having an affair, Lucas has a lot to think about. She suggests he spend the night, but he doesn’t want to put them out. Carly says there’s a room upstairs with his name on it, across from where Wiley is sleeping. He asks if she’s sure it’s okay, and she says, of course (🍷). Whatever is going on with Brad, he’ll get through it. They hug.

Julian says the best thing Brad can do for Lucas and Wiley is to leave. Brad says, it will break up Wiley’s family, but Julian says, Wiley still has a father. Going against Julian won’t go well for Brad. The next time he sees Brad, he’d better be on his way out of town. Stop by first to tell him the marriage is over. Got that?

Peter thanks Lucy for letting him know. He tells Maxie that he didn’t get the property. She asks, why? and he says the co-op board thinks he’s too risky. His past is catching up again. Maxie says they’re better off. Who wants snobby neighbors? He says he’s sorry. He thought it would be a special birthday surprise, but she says she doesn’t need it. It’s still a beautiful night. He says she’s a good sport, and she says she’s an even better roommate. Let her show him. Move in to her place.

Michael says Lucy wants Sasha, and Sasha has the power to negotiate. She can stipulate that she won’t use her reputation or exploit Nina. Sasha wants a simpler life, like the one she had before. She wants him to know the woman she used to be. He hopes she’s not too different, and Sasha says, she’s way better. He asks how that’s possible, and she tells him, stay tuned and find out. They kiss.

Curtis and Jordan look at the test, and Curtis asks what Jordan thinks. She says she can’t believe it either.

Nina says now that Obrecht got her emotional, she has to check her makeup. Obrecht says, sorry not sorry, and Nina leaves for the bathroom. Obrecht says doesn’t Valentin look pleased, but he hasn’t quite reached his happily ever after. The DNA sample is still on file at GH. If the lab runs the test again, the results will show that Sasha is Nina’s daughter. Imagine the questions that will follow.

Curtis says, Sasha is definitely Nina’s daughter, and Jordan wonders why the test results say that. Curtis says, something is wrong, and they can bet Valentin is behind it.

Obrecht says there will be an inquiry as to how the sample was passed to Sasha. He says Obrecht isn’t in the clear; she’s just as involved. She says, perhaps, but she has far less to lose. Nina watches them talking. I think Nina might be playing Valentin.

Nikolas says if Hayden and Jax can pull it off, fine, but if not, wrap it up immediately. Hayden says they’re all on the same page. The sooner they get it done, the sooner they bring that bastard to his knees.

Tomorrow, Julian wants it to be like Brad never existed, Carly tells Josslyn there will be consequences, and Kim says she needs help.

Below Deck

27 hours before charter. Ashton tries to get Abbi on the radio. Tanner asks if he got Abbi’s text. She said she didn’t know if she’d be up by 9, and needs a toilet nearby. We see, yes, she does. Ashton wonders where the blip she gets off, and says she’s not on vacation. She gets to be a deckhand. It’s her primary job. I just have to say it. Because of his accent, every time Ashton says deckhand, I think he’s saying d*ckhead.

Kevin sings about winning as he works. Kate asks if Courtney is open to Brian, but she says, no. In Courtney’s interview, she says he’s hot, but she doesn’t get with people until she knows them better. She wants to know his personality, so she’s overlooking his body. Abbi continues to get sick. Ashton tells Tanner, sorry he’s alone, but Abbi is hugging the toilet. Abbi gets dressed, puts on some makeup, and comes out. She says she feels better, and apologizes. She says she threw up at 8:30, and needed some extra time. Ashton tells her that he’s been pretty lenient. You have to understand what your limits are. If you can’t drink and still keep up, you have to manage yourself. It’s not fair to the crew. Abbi admits she drank too much. In her interview, she says Ashton has a point, but rules are not her forte. Um… marry a rich guy then, and don’t work?

Time for the preference sheet meeting. Captain Lee says there will be eight guests. The primary’s name is Mccall, and she’s bringing girlfriends to join her. She’s a doctor, and addicted to charters. They want to enjoy all the water toys, and they’re big drinkers. Normally, they run out of alcohol on a boat. In Kate’s interview, she’s relieved it’s an all girl charter that loves to drink. It’s like an adult slumber party, and they’ll just pass out. The captain says they want a tasting menu, and Kevin says he’ll try not to disappoint them. The captain says presentation is everything, and Kevin asks what about presentation on the last meal? Captain Lee says he wasn’t impressed with it. Kevin should be blowing their socks off. In Kevin’s interview, he says, to be honest, he thinks he pissed the captain off in a way besides the food. None of the charter guests said there was anything wrong, but the only way to retaliate is to hit him where it hurts – his food. Kevin thanks the captain for his honest feedback, and Captain Lee says if Kevin doesn’t want an honest answer, he’s not the guy to come to.

The davit is fixed. Abbi tells Tanner that Ashton overreacted. In Tanner’s interview, he says his game plan is to plant seeds, and see if they grow. Kate’s garden died quickly.

Patrick and Abbi text. In her interview, Abbi say she’s been naïve and stupid, thinking Patrick is just a boyfriend. The reality is, they have something special. Being around a bunch of hot guys made her realize that she’s not attracted to anybody else. Abbie tells Simone and Courtney that she and Patrick just got engaged. He told her that he loved her in a text, she said her too, and he asked her to marry him. In Abbi’s interview, she says it may be abrupt, but she’s going with her gut feeling. In Courtney’s interview, she says Abbi and Patrick have been together two years, and suddenly say they love each other via text. Her eyes are rolling off the boat. Everyone goes to bed. Abbi tells Kate that her Greek captain is coming to Boston after the charter season, and they’re getting married. In Kate’s interview, she says, millennials are cute. Do you want to get dinner, and maybe spend the rest of your life with me?

Kevin calls his sister. He needs support, since he’s feeling emotional. He’s the only boy in the family, and has three sisters. He was the baby of the house, and thinks he still is. He tells her that the captain said he’s not good enough. No way you can say that to a chef and expect them to hang around.  Yep. He’s definitely still a baby. In his interview, he wonders if he should stay or hop off the boat. Then the captain can cook. I see he’s a  true professional as well. His sister tells him not to let the stress and bother get in the way of what he’s doing. In Kevin’s interview, he says he keeps playing it over in his head. He’s been hard at work, and Captain Lee is saying he’s not good enough. The captain is playing with his head. His sister says she doesn’t want to see him on her doorstep three days from now. Kevin is such an a-hole. Working hard and doing his best is not having no seafood for a seafood extravaganza, or eating the captain’s entrée. In his interview, Kevin says he’s giving the guests ten courses in the tasting menu. He wants it to be really impressive.

Tanner says, something is wrong. He’s feeling the worst he’s ever felt; he feels like sh*t. Abbi tells the other deckhands that she’s getting married. In his interview, Ashton thinks it’s bizarre. They spent time trying to hook up, and he can’t believe it. This changes things. The provisions arrive. Hopefully, there’s food. Kate says the guests want a beer in their hands all day. Brain knows the feeling. Tanner cracks his head on an overhang. In his interview, he says he’s not 100%. Ashton tells Tanner to let him know how he’s feeling at the end of the day. Kevin says he’s making gnocchi from scratch, and Kate says, that changes everything. She’ll need to have some. The crew changes into their whites, and drinks are made. Kate has an armful of leis ready.

The guests start squealing before they even get to the boat. Captain lee tells the crew, they can still get away if they hurry. Kate puts a lei on everyone, and a guest says she hasn’t been lei’d in a while. It must be some sort of requirement to make a joke like that. In her interview, Kate says she loves an all woman charter. They just come on to get loose, happy, and drink wine. There are lots of woo! Sounds, and Courtney makes faces. The guests marvel over the boat, and jump on the beds.

The table is set, and the women scream over Ashton, and tells him if he wants to take his shirt off, it’s okay with them. Ashton says they’re going to be trouble. Tanner gets a break, and Kevin fries up the gnocchi. He says he’s thinking that the captain doesn’t think he does a good job, and he’s sweating bullets. Lunch is served. Ashton asks how Tanner is doing, and Tanner says, better; he’s there. Ashton tells him they’re putting out the water toys. One of the guests says, it’s gonna happen, referring to Ashton, and when she’s out of hearing range, Kate says, so gross.

Anchor is locked. Abbi chats with the guests, telling them she’s from Boston. They scream, which seems to  be their natural reaction to everything. Ashton calls her again. Brian thinks Ashton is jealous after hearing about the engagement thing. Abbi tells Ashton that the clients want to jump off the bow, so that’s where they’re headed. He tells Abbi to get the swim platform set up. In Ashton’s interview, he says, since the engagement, Abbi has been distracted. Her work ethic wasn’t the best to begin with, and she needs to get more focused. Simone is back in the laundry room, and Kate asks if she want out of the laundry hole for a while. Simone says, hallelujah, and Kate says she can tell. Simone can help Courtney. In Kate’s interview, she says, Simone is good at laundry, and likes it, but if you stay there too long, you can lose the upbeat attitude real quick. She’s done it.

Ashton goes to the bow, and the guests says he should probably take his shirt off. He jumps into the water with them. Tanner manages to get out of bed. Kevin studies his menu, and goes over it with Kate. Simone and Abbi are talking nearby, and he asks them to take it somewhere else. In Kevin’s interview, he says, this dinner is important. He can do it; he just has to focus. He goes through all ten courses with Kate, and she makes notes. She thinks ten courses is strong. In her interview, she says she’s quickly learning that every meal is a roller coaster of Kevin’s ego. It’s Kevin’s boat; they’re just on it. She asks Courtney to do laundry.

In Courtney’s interview, she says she’s in service, and constantly doing laundry is boring, mind-numbing, dirty, and she’s bad at it. Her ex did all her laundry. The slide is put away, and Abbi whines that she’s had no break and got up at 6 am. In her interview, Abbi says she’s not used to this sh*t. On a sailboat, they have one paddle board, and it’s never deflated. Here, they have a trampoline and slide. Is it a jungle gym or a boat? Tanner feels lightheaded, and Ashton tells him, go to bed.

The guests get ready for dinner. Captain Lee checks out the menu, and Kevin explains about some kind of Bloody Mary dressing he’s making. In the captain’s interview, he says he’s expecting Kevin to deliver better food. A ten course menu is a big bite of the apple; so many things can go south. If Kevin doesn’t step up to the plate, he’ll fire him. Kevin wonders since when they captain has been so interested in the food, and Kate says, when Kevin decided to make ten amazing courses.

Kevin says he’s getting nervous. Kate says if he’s nervous, she’s nervous. In Kevin’s interview, he says a lot of people probably want him to sink tonight, but it’s not going to happen. Kate tells the guests, the first course – a cucumber salad with the Bloody Mary dressing – is to awaken the palate. The captain checks to see how Kevin is doing. Everything looks fabulous, and Captain Lee says he loves it. One of the guests says she needs to marry this man. Kate tells Kevin that they’re loving it. Abbi talks to her new fiancé on the phone. He’s happy and looking forward to getting married forever and ever. And if they get a divorce, these will still have been the best years. In her interview, Abbi says, since the engagement, she’s always thinking about Patrick now. In Courtney’s interview, she says when she thinks about her last meal on earth – and she thinks about it often – it has ten courses, but normally, that would be too much. It’s not like they’re huge dishes though. They’re actually quite small. Like a couple of bites. The guests tell Kate that they wouldn’t be disappointed if he did a striptease, and she says she’ll be happy to tell him. Kate tells Ashton that the guests have a big request. They want him to strip. He says he’s hung up his G-string, and does some gyrations. Kate tells him, his mouth is saying no, but his pelvis is saying yes. In Ashton’s interview, he says, when he was younger, he did a male review. It comes naturally. The captain watches Kevin work. In his interview, Captain Lee says, it’s a step in the right direction. They’ll see if he can keep it up. He tells Kevin that he’s having dinner with the guests tomorrow.

Kate tells Ashton to bring out the eleventh course. He comes out, and says he heard he had a request. He tells them he usually asks for a volunteer, and one of the guests gets in a chair up front. He says he’s going to show them the fundamentals you have to remember when doing a lap dance. First, you learn how to touch yourself. He does some moves, and they scream. He bumps and grinds, and in Kate’s interview, she says, you can take the boy out of the strip club dance group, but you can never take the strip club group out of the boy. Ashton says, last, but not least, you say thank you, and he kisses her hand. In his interview, Ashton says, memorable moments can mean the difference between a $15K and $20K tip. Kate tells him, good job.

Kevin wishes it was the final night. In his interview, he says he proved himself. Good on him. Now he’s thinking about dinner for the captain tomorrow night. He’s walking into the lion’s den. Ashton wonders why the deck hasn’t been mopped. Brian is the guy he counts on, and Ashton has been busting his ass on deck, while Brian is flirting with Courtney, and munching on Kevin’s leftovers. He’s employed as a deckhand, not a sous chef. Ashton kind of jumps down Brian’s throat, and Brian thinks Ashton is being unfair. In Ashton’s interview, he says, Tanner isn’t well, Abbi is mucking around, and it feels like the wheels are falling off the bus. Brian says they’re supposed to be a team, and Ashton says that’s his point. Brian says he works hard. He’s sorry he missed something, but he’s not perfect. Ashton says, it’s simple stuff, and Brian is saying he’s wrong for bringing it up. In Ashton’s interview, he says he has to put his foot down. He can’t have Brian help inside; it’s not his job. He’s trying be fair, but Brian needs to stop focusing on the interior. It pains him to speak to Brian this way, but as bosun, he has to speak to him about it. Then Brian has audacity to say he’s unfair, and it gets Ashton’s back up. In Brian’s interview, he wonders what this bullsh*t is about. He doesn’t know where it’s coming from, since he pushes himself to the limit every day. Dude, relax. Wtf?

Kevin tells Kate he made granola with his sweat and blood. She says she’ll use her tears as a garnish. Breakfast – my favorite meal – is served. The women start eating, and it gets very quiet. One of them says, food clearly shuts them up. Ashton thinks maybe he came across wrong to Brian, and tells Brian that he appreciates his hard work. If he came across otherwise, he apologizes. He just wants Brian to channel his efforts on the exterior. In Ashton’s interview, he says, bosuning is hard. You have to manage your own emotions and everyone else’s. He’s still trying to figure it out.

Tanner is still not well. He says he feels like absolute dog sh*t. He just wants to relax and watch cartoons. The guests don’t give a f**k if you’re sick, so you’ve got to suck it up and get through it. He goes into the bathroom and throws up.

Kate calls Simone to the galley, and tells her tonight isn’t a ten-course meal, so she can be the alternate, and next charter be on service more. In Simone’s interview, she says she’s looking forward to doing service with Kate and furthering her career. She’s mostly been doing housekeeping for the last two years, and she’s ready for service. She helps Kate serve drinks. Tanner comes out to the crew mess, and says, it’s nice being able to eat; he had nothing yesterday. Ashton tells the deckhands that they need to be more detail oriented. He feels some of them have their heads in the clouds instead of paying attention to details. Tanner says, sounds good, and Ashton says he doesn’t want anyone doing things they’re not enjoying. In Abbi’s interview, she says she loves how he basically singled her out. He can’t expect everyone else to be like him. Tanner tells her that he doesn’t think it was directed toward her. In her interview, Abbi says she wants to be positive, but it’s really hard.

Kevin preps some fish, Tanner says he’s dehydrated, and Abbi can’t stop eating. Brian asks if something is up, and she says she thinks she’s depressed. Tanner asks if it’s the work itself, but Abbi says she doesn’t like the vibe. She wants to get past it and move on. Brian says it happens a lot on charters, and Tanner says it’s always like a roller coaster. In Abbi’s interview, she says she eats when she’s stressed, and she hates this job.

Courtney tells Kate that Abbi doesn’t like the job. Kate says Abbi isn’t depressed; she’s just a brat. Courtney agrees. Ashton tells the deckhands to bring the toys in, and asks Abbi to help with the slide. Simone passes out beer, while Ashton and Tanner take a couple of guests out on the jet skis. Brain tells Abbi that she has to focus, but she doesn’t know what he’s asking for. She gets weepy, and tells Simone that Brian is being a d*ck, and she wants to leave. She starts to cry, and says she’s always so happy. She’s sick of this sh*t, and thinks she needs to quit. Well, she’s not the first one who didn’t like it when they realized it was actual work.

Next time, Captain Lee didn’t see this coming, Abbi doesn’t like the job, Tanner is still sick, the captain expects Kevin to go big or he will be going home, and beef tongue doesn’t go over well with the guests.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Walking Dead

Kelly is out in the woods. We see tattered rags on a clothesline, and a wild boar. Kelly gets her slingshot ready, but she’s having trouble hearing. The boar is down, but not dead, and she has to stab it. A zombie sneaks up on her, and she stabs that too. Zombies fall on the boar, devouring it, so Kelly has to abandon that idea. She runs, and a zombie follows. She tumbles down a hill. She’s hurt, and crawls forward. She leans against a tree, and a seriously creepy-looking zombie reaches for her from behind.

Negan looks at his reflection in the creek, and splashes water on his face. He debates drinking some, but decides not to. A voice says, gotcha. Don’t try anything. Negan turns around to see Brandon, who says, the look on his face. He was just messing with Negan. Brandon tosses him a canteen, and says Negan is fast. It took forever to catch up to him. Negan smiles. Damn he’s handsome.

Yumiko and a couple of others are still working on killing straggling zombies outside the wall. Yumiko goes inside to check in with Eugene. Aiden says Eugene has come up with a zero waste plan, and Eugene says, it seems as good a time as any to master the Pueblo art of basket weaving. On the side, Aiden suggests to Yumiko that they make weapons and catapults. She thinks it’s a good idea, just not now. Things are too complicated. Yumiko moves on, and Earl tells Aiden, the Whisperers toppled their wall with a tree, and now they’re throwing walkers at them, but they’re twiddling their thumbs. Breanna tells Yumiko that Connie was in the root cellar again in the middle of the night. Yumiko asks, who was on watch?

Yumiko goes inside her house to find Magna listening to music and reading. Yumiko shuts off the gramophone. She tells Magna that someone stole the crate of fish they got from Oceanside. Breanna said it was gone from the root cellar. Magna says, everything is strange at the moment. Yumiko says it would help if they stuck to the jobs they were given. Magna turns the music back up, and goes back to her book.

Ezekiel leans against a fence and ponders. Daryl rides in on his bike, and Siddiq follows behind on a horse. Connie waves, and signs talk later to Daryl. Ezekiel says, no sign of Negan? and Siddiq says they searched day and night, thinking about what he took from them, and they didn’t take from him. Ezekiel says they could use a hand in the infirmary, and Siddiq says they were planning on leaving tomorrow, but of course he’ll help.

A group of hunters comes back, and Connie writes, Kelly? Aiden says, she’s not there? She was tracking something, and said she’d meet them back at Hilltop. She should be back by now.

Negan cuts little sucker branches off of a big branch. Brandon whistles, and asks Negan if he got it. His dad used to tells him how the Saviors whistled back and forth. He asks how Negan got out of the cell, but Negan doesn’t say anything. Brandon says at least tell him what they’re looking for, but Negan says he wants to play it safe. Brandon says he heard how badass the Sanctuary was. Then Rick comes along, and talk about a hypocrite. He kills their parents, drags them to Alexandria, and gives them a lecture on community. He heard Negan made Rick cut his own kid’s hand off, and then killed him. Negan says he never did that. Carl was… He would never kill a kid. Brandon says they’re both Negan. Negan starts walking again. Brandon follows.

They come across a mess of barbed wire, and Brandon asks, who would do this? Negan says, the skin freaks. Brandon asks if they should cross. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Negan says, no, and a zombie comes out of nowhere, knocking Negan down. He holds it off with his newly fashioned stick, pushes it off of him. and uses the barbed wire to cut three-quarters of its head off through the mouth. Then he smashes the head with his foot. He says, thanks for the help, and Brandon says, sorry. He needed a second to wrap Negan’s gift. He holds out Lucille, wrapped in barbed wire. He says he swiped it from Alexandria, and was waiting for the right time to surprise Negan. He takes Negan’s leather jacket out of his backpack, and says, it took forever to find it. It was in the back of an old storage garage. His dad said he never saw Negan without it. Negan tells Brandon to put it in his backpack. He doesn’t want to be recognized. Brandon asks if he likes it though, and Negan says it’s a big hit.

Aaron looks around on the bridge, and hears something. He goes into the woods, and watches Gamma dispatch a zombie. She cuts it open, and blood flows into the creek. She shoves the body into the water; its entrails popping out.

Negan and Brandon stare at some zombies meandering around, and Brandon tells Negan that he’d say she’s a seven. Negan just looks at him, and he asks if this isn’t this kind of stuff the Saviors did to kill time. Negan tells Brandon that he can’t say he remembers rating walkers on their hotness. And she’s clearly a three. They hear screaming, and Negan takes off, Brandon following. Negan runs to a bus, where the screaming is coming from, and slams a zombie against the side of it. He breaks the knife in the process of stabbing it in the head. He looks at the handle, and says, you’ve got to be kidding me. He goes inside the bus, where he finds a woman screaming and fending off several zombies. Negan kills one, and she takes down another. Negan smashes the third zombies head in the bus door until there’s nothing left. A little boy peeks out from behind one of the seats. Brandon says, damn. Classic Negan.

Connie and Daryl search the woods for Kelly. Daryl says it’s not her fault, but Kelly signs that she should have gone with Kelly. Daryl asks if he’s told her about his brother Merle. One time Merle took him fishing on a big lake that was private property, in a boat that was stolen. Merle was drinking and fishing, and fell in the lake. Daryl had to swim back to shore while holding onto Merle. He saved Merle’s life, and know what he says? He writes, Dummy, go get the beer. Connie laughs, and he says, idiot, right? He tells her it’s going to be all right, and Dog barks. I always get nervous when dog is on screen

They see the rock from Kelly’s slingshot, and the remains of the boar. Daryl almost shoots Magna, who comes from another direction. Kelly gives Magna a questioning look, and Magna shakes her head.

Yumiko says she should be out there with them, and  Aiden says if she was lost in the woods, who would she want to find her? Somebody has to come back with her. Killjoy Earl asks if Aiden really thinks Kelly is okay, and Aiden says he hopes so. Earl says, what about them? The tree didn’t fall on its own. He thinks they might be coming back with something worse. Isn’t Aiden thinking about them at all? Aiden says, after what happened to his family, he thinks night and day about them. Earl says, don’t stop.

Ezekiel tells Siddiq, they took a quarter of the medical supplies. Ezekiel holds a metal tiger, and Siddiq says he’s sorry. Ezekiel says Henry forged it during his apprenticeship. He has a sudden coughing fit, and Siddiq says, that doesn’t sound good, but Ezekiel says, it’s nothing. The regular slings and arrows. Siddiq says it could be from smoke inhalation, and reaches out to touch Ezekiel, who slaps his hand away. Ezekiel tells Siddiq that he said he was fine. After a moment, Ezekiel pulls down his sweater to reveal a protrusion on his neck, saying, it’s grown. Siddiq touches Ezekiel’s neck, and says, it could be a lot of things, but Ezekiel says he knows what it is. Siddiq says, without a test, he can’t be sure, but Ezekiel says he knows. Siddiq sits, and Ezekiel says when he was growing up, his grandmother had it, and so did his father. The pain, the coughing, and swelling; he watched them fight it and win. There was 98% survival rate for thyroid cancer with the treatments that were out there. Now, they both know what it means. Siddiq says, it can be managed; acupuncture, hypnosis… He’s struggling with own condition. He can’t stand how everyone looks to him for some kind of answers. Maybe Ezekiel can’t get away from it, but they can talk about it. What are they there for if not for each other?

Amelia, the woman on the bus, tells Negan that she and Milo have been walking for weeks, since the Whisperers scattered everyone from their camp to the four winds. They went back to what it was before, and what it is in the end, moving from place to place, surviving. Brandon says he’s been there. Amelia asks if Milo wants to walk, and Brandon says, be safe. When they’re gone, Brandon says he knows what Negan is thinking. Negan says, people are a resource, but Brandon says, not them. He starts to go after them, and Negan grabs him, shoving him into a seat. He says he appreciates what Brandon has done for him since he left Alexandria, but it’s only going to get more dangerous from there. It’s best for him to go on alone, and Brandon should go home. Brandon says, okay, but if he goes back, everyone will want know where he’s been. What is he supposed to say? He’s never been a great liar. Negan laughs, and asks if Brandon planned that. He can go wherever the hell he wants. Brandon can go back to Alexandria and tell the whole world exactly where he is. He doesn’t give a sh*t, as long as doesn’t have to see that creepy pasty-ass face of Brandon’s again. Brandon says Negan is just like all the others. He grabs his bag, and gets off the bus.

Alpha watches as a Whisperer slices the face of off a zombie. She says, the ears are tricky. (I find out later on Talking Dead, that this is actually the zombie Kelly killed in the beginning scene.) Gamma approaches, and Alpha touches her face, saying she has something for Gamma. Gamma says she just came back from the creek, and Beta says, another one lost. Alpha says, strategy takes time. If they treat the water, and build a dam of zombies, it will crush them. A Whisperer wants to talk to Alpha, and Beta grumbles, but Alpha tells him to speak his piece. He says instead of what she’s doing, why not cut their enemies down all at once? Alpha asks if anyone agrees, and gets silence. She says, there’s democracy for you, and slices his hamstring. The Whisperer falls to his knees, and she says, the human body is fragile. All it takes to collapse it are a few nicks in the right spot. He makes a feeble attempt to stab her, and she slices his arm. She says, the strong ones know where to come to be safe, and hands Beta her knife. Beta slits the Whisperer’s throat, and Alpha says Gamma wanted another guardian.

Milo plays with a toy plane, and Negan asks how he is, telling Milo that he doesn’t bite. Milo’s mom it packing, so he has time to kill. Milo asks where Brandon is, and Negan says, he went looking for supplies. He tells Milo that he’s going to be rea; he told Brandon to get lost. It turns out he’s not the best co-pilot, if Milo catches his drift. He says Brandon doesn’t, does he? He’s never been on a plane. It’s not Milo’s fault that God turned the world into an ass pit before he was born. It feels like you’ve been sitting on the runway forever, and suddenly you hear a groan. The plane creeps along, moving faster and faster, until everything out the window turns into a blur. The wheels come up, and you’re flying, like voodoo magic. Up and up, higher and higher, until it’s like you’re floating on top of the world. The houses and cars look like toys. The food is a no. He was served beef stroganoff that looked like baby sh*t. There’s so much Milo is going to miss growing up in a screwed up world. Driving his first set of wheels, video games, nut tapping. He explains that you catch a guy off-guard. Keep your wrist loose, and snap your fingers on their nuts. You can’t go too low or too high, or you’ll get nothing but d*ck. He has Milo demonstrate the technique, and says he’s a natural. If nut tapping was a sport, Milo would be in the hall of fame. He tells Milo a fire isn’t happening without wood. Is he packed? Milo says he is, and Negan says he knows it sucks, but tells him mom that Negan knows a place where they’ll probably take them in. It has high walls, farmland, and has a mansion in the middle. They can’t tell who brought them there, but he’ll get them as close as he can. There’s one condition. Milo has to keep his fingers holstered when Negan’s nuts are around. Deal? Milo says, deal, and they high-five.

Gamma walks with the new zombie to the creek. She stabs him again and again, remembering throwing her sister into the zombie horde, and seeing Alpha kill the Whisperer. She’s stabbing so aggressively, she ends up cutting herself, and dropping the knife in the water. Aaron sees, and tosses her a bandage wrap. He says, it’s okay; it’s for her hand. He tells her that his name is Aaron. He knows they don’t do names anymore, but she’s got to be from somewhere. He’s from Vermont. Gamma jets, and he says, you’re welcome.

Connie and Daryl continue to search. Dog barks, and they find Kelly passed out, leaning against the tree. Connie wakes her up, and asks if she’s okay. Kelly signs that she couldn’t hear before, but she’s fine now. Magna gives Kelly some water, but she chokes on it. Connie signs that they have to get back to Hilltop. Daryl thinks they need to find somewhere closer. Connie walks over to a brush pile, and uncovers a big box of supplies. Daryl asks if she knew about this, and Connie takes a medical kit out of the box. She signs something to Magna, and Daryl asks what she said. Magna tells him that Connie doesn’t trust her. Daryl says Hilltop took them in. They have sick children and mouths to feed, and she steals from them. All she’s good for is talking sh*t. Connie writes not to tell them. Let her handle it.

Negan carries a small pile of wood in his arms. He hears whistling, and sees Brandon. Brandon says, that’s it, right? Negan drops the wood, and sees that Amelia and Milo are dead; their bodies next to the bus. Brandon says he remembers Negan kicked people out, but he was messing with them; keeping them in line. He realized this was a test. Negan said it was going to get a lot more dangerous, because he wanted to make sure Brandon had the balls to do what had to be done. Brandon looks at the bodies, and says, what does he think? Negan picks up a big rock, and Brandon turns around, saying, I passed. I am Negan. Negan slams the rock into Brandon’s head, and pounds his head to a pulp. He takes Lucille and his jacket, and walks.

Daryl returns with Connie, Kelly, and Magna. Yumiko runs to them, and asks, what happened? Connie signs that she’ll explain later.

Dante jokes to Siddiq on the radio. He says either Siddiq’s mic is out or he’s laughing balls off. He says he’s still there, and asks how Rosita is. Dante says he didn’t want to tell Siddiq, but she got a bump. She’ll be fine. Siddiq says he’ll leave for home tonight. He asks if Carol is around, and Dante says he’ll grab her. Ezekiel takes Siddiq’s place at the mic. He touches the metal tiger, and listens to Carol’s footsteps coming toward the radio. He shuts the radio off. Not that it’s ever in a happy place, but this show is just heartbreaking tonight.

Yumiko tells Magna it’s scary to think, but they probably wouldn’t have made it if they hadn’t found that stash. It sounds like they were far off the main road. Magna tells her, say it. Yumiko thinks she stole the supplies and hid them out there. Yumiko says, it wouldn’t be the first time, and Magna says Yumiko has thought she was selfish and stupid for the past thirteen years. That’s how she looked at Magna the day she showed up in her fancy suit. Yumiko says she was thinking, here’s an innocent person locked up for a crime she didn’t commit, and she’s never trusted anyone because no one trusted her. She was mad at everyone. Magna says her cousin was a little girl who had to go on living life when nobody came for him. So she did it. There it is. (For clarification: A man sexually assaulted Magna’s young cousin, and she killed him.) Magna tells Yumiko, they’ve both killed how many? and still that look.

Gamma approaches Alpha, and shows Alpha her bandaged hand. She says, the man with the metal arm gave to her. Seated on the ground, Alpha says, shh, and Gamma sits next to her. Alpha takes Gamma’s mask off, saying, different masks for different times. It’s kind of a sacrifice, like Gamma sacrificed her sister. Gamma says Alpha’s sacrifice was much greater, and Alpha says, the man with the metal arm could be useful. Gamma might just have to wear a new mask.

Connie walks through the stables, and hangs up a lantern. Daryl is there with his bike, and she asks if he’s leaving. He says he has to go back, and asks if Kelly is okay. Connie smiles and nods. She writes, sorry about Magna and Kelly asking him to lie for them. Daryl makes the sign for family, and Connie smiles. He gets on his bike, and she signs goodbye. He rolls out, whistling for Dog to follow.

Negan walks through the woods, wearing his jacket, and carrying Lucille. He walks past the barbed wire, and says, hey, sacks of sh*t, what does he have to do to get something to eat? Are they all scared of the big bad wolf? Little pigs, little pigs, let me in. (Which is what he also said when he first went to Alexandria.) He sees some zombies and says, there they are. He’s done talking. He whacks one with Lucille, and says he’s gonna blow their asses all the way home. He wallops a few more, and gets knocked down by Beta, who’s there with some Whisperers. I say, oh sh*t, and Negan says, all right, you big ass freak. Let’s do this.

Next time, Carol takes her gun and goes out walking, Alpha wants to test Negan, and Negan says he wants to join the Whisperers. They’re a survivor’s wet dream.

In honor of Will Rogers‘s 140th birthday, a few quotes.

I never met a man I didn’t like

Papers say: Congress is deadlocked and can’t act. I think that is the greatest blessing that could befall this country.

You know everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects.

This would be a great world to dance in if we didn’t have to pay the fiddler.

We all can’t be heroes, for someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by.

Everything is funny as long as it is happening to Somebody Else.

We will never have true civilization until we have learned to recognize the rights of others.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava tells the masked stranger, she knew the minute she saw him that he was the man stalking her. The man everyone said wasn’t there. Yet here he is. She wants to find out who he is. She tells him to take off his mask, and he does. She says, Nikolas? He says, Nikolas Mikail Stavrosovich Cassadine. She says, impossible. She watched him die. He says, yet here he is. In the flesh. He catches her as she faints, and says he thought she’d be happy.

Hayden tells Jax, the painting could have sold by now, and he says there would be a recent transaction on file. Elizabeth comes by, and asks how Violet is. Hayden says, hanging in there. Elizabeth tells Jax that she’s glad Cameron and Josslyn decided to go to the Halloween party. They can use a night out with friends after what they’ve been through. He says, being normal teenagers is the best thing for them.

Trina tries to tell Lulu that Josslyn has the flu, and where would she get liquor anyway? Dev helps Cameron out to the deck, saying, there’s got to be another way off the boat. Cameron face plants, then looks around. Dustin picks up the soda bottle, sniffs it, and asks if Cameron is looking for something.

Sonny thanks Brad and Lucas for taking Avery trick or treating. They talk about the kids dressing up, and how much fun it was. Sonny says they’re not going to be there when they have to tell Avery that Wiley isn’t staying forever. Carly is glad the kids are surrounded by people they love and trust. Brad says, speaking of trust, there’s something he needs to tell them. Nelle invited him to attend her parole hearing, and he went.

At the MetroCourt, Julian asks if bartender Kip isn’t an actor. He says he is, and Julian says he’s seen him around, and he’s good. He hears Kip takes on gigs, and he has a pretty major part. Kip asks if it’s the lead; he’s been hoping to branch out to something more substantial. Julian says, the whole plot rests on him.

At the MetroCourt, Nina asks how dare anyone imply she’s treating Sasha unfairly? Sasha lied to her for over a year, used her, and took advantage of her deepest and most painful loss. How would Michael like it if twenty years down the road, someone tells lies about the child he lost? Michael asks why Nina thinks Sasha was in it by herself, and Nina says Sasha told everyone.  I love how she calls Sasha the biggest liar in the world, but that one, she believes. She says she likes Michael, but standing by Sasha’s side doesn’t speak well of his intentions. She doesn’t think the shareholders will like it. Willow says, will you stop?

Laura tells Valentin that she thinks his time is just about over as head at the Cassadine table. He asks who’s going to take it from him? Spencer? If Spencer decides he’s a legitimate threat, then like he told her before, he’s going to handle Spencer like he’s a threat.

Ava opens her eyes, but Nikolas is gone. She calls out to him, and looks around, but he’s nowhere to be found.

Hayden tells Jax that the painter is a respected artist, and the portrait is worth a lot of money. Jax says, if it’s anywhere, it’s at the gallery. He calls Laura, and tells her Helena’s portrait may have found its way to Ava’s gallery. Laura asks, how? and he says he’ll explain later. If it’s there, they need to get it before it sells. She says she’ll swing by on her way home. The gallery is close, but if it’s on display, it will be in the window.

Willow says what Sasha did to Nina was horrible. Everybody feels bad about her pain. Nina days she doesn’t need their sympathy, but Willow continues, saying Nina is far from perfect. Shiloh would have never known her son existed. Nina threatens to get a restraining order against both Sasha and Willow, but Michael suggests Nina discuss it with her fiancé before the next confrontation. Somebody needs to help her see the light. The couples all walk away from each other, and Sasha tells Michael that she knows what he’s doing, and she wants him to stop.

Carly asks why Brad went to Nelle’s hearing. Brad says he wouldn’t call Nelle a friend. She’s possibly the most evil person he knows, but he’s been the town pariah, and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. His compassion got the best of him, but he knows she deserves to be where she is. Carly says, his compassion? Nelle is a master manipulator. Her phone rings, and she steps aside to take the call. It’s Lulu. Brad says he wants Sonny to know that he and Lucas had a long talk, and he knows where his loyalty lies. Sonny says, it’s important to keep those things clear. Carly thanks Lulu for taking care of it, and says Sonny is leaving now. Sonny asks if he heard his name, and Carly says he has to go to the Haunted Star immediately.

Lulu tells Josslyn that her parents are on their way. Josslyn says she’ll see Trina when she’s thirty. Dustin says, what about Dev? Dev says Dustin can’t question him without an attorney. Dustin says he’s not a cop, and Dev isn’t under arrest, so that doesn’t come into play. But thanks for trying. Unfortunately, he’s going to have to turn Dev in for his part in this. Um… what part? Helping Cameron outside to get air?

Sonny shows up, and Josslyn says, kill her now. He says, and deprive her mom of the pleasure? No way. He tells Dev not to talk until they get home. Elizabeth arrives, and thanks Dustin. She says, it looks like she needs to have a long talk with Cameron. Cameron says, that’s okay. It means he gets to go home, and can lie down. Elizabeth says the last place they’re going is home, and leads him down the stairs.

On the phone, Carly tells Jax, they have to present a united front; it’s important. He says he’ll see her soon. Brad asks Carly where Lucas is, and she says he went to check on Wiley. Brad says he wanted to talk to her alone. He apologizes if his visit to Nelle made her think twice about him. She says she hates it. A phone call or a letter would be too much, but to show support for her getting out? As long as there’s breath in Nelle’s body, she’s a danger to Carly’s family. She can’t imagine why he’d want to continue the connection. Brad says he’s in a good place with Lucas, and Lucas made it clear how he feels. Carly says, so did she. The ball is in his court; play it wisely. Brad tells her that everything he does is out of love for Lucas and their son.

Chase tells Willow that she was hot when she was calling out Nina. She says she can’t stand bullies, and obviously has untapped rage. Nina can’t get her fired now, so she has no reason to nice or cordial, or not to put maple syrup in Nina’s gas tank. He reminds her that he’s still a cop, and she says what if she gets someone else to do it, and he can be her alibi. He says he’s down for that. Sasha tells Michael, she saw that look. He says he went to Valentin, and said if Valentin didn’t get Nina to relent about Sasha, he’d personally make sure Valentin goes down with her.

Valentin says he knows Nina wants revenge, but what will it accomplish? She says, justice, but Valentin says, Sasha is nobody, a nothing, a con artist. She had one easy score, and it’s kind of their fault. Nina asks, how? and he says they wanted believe it so bad, they were easy marks. It’s not easy for him to admit, and he’s exhausted by this. Sasha this, and Sasha that. She’s been uncovered; move on, and don’t give her one more moment. They need to drop the crosses and pitchforks, and move on with their family, and the love and happiness they so richly deserve.

On the phone with the PCPD, Ava insists on being put through to the mayor. Laura walks in, and Ava hangs up. she asks Laura if he’s called. Does Laura know where he is? Laura asks, who? and Ava says, Nikolas. He was just here.

Carly tells Jax, Sonny will be back any minute, and he asks how she wants to play this. She says they agree it’s unacceptable, and he says, absolutely, and there will be consequences. She says, damn straight. Sonny comes in, and tells Dev to go upstairs. They’ll talk later. Jax asks Josslyn to tell them what happened, and she says, she was stupid. Carly says they all agree on that. Who else was involved? Josslyn says, Cameron, but it’s not his fault. He was trying to help. They thought it would make things easier, and they could just forget and have fun. She suddenly runs upstairs to the bathroom, and Carly shakes her head.

Laura tells Ava, she was surprised to find her at the gallery, and Ava says, remember how she said she thought she was being watched? It turned out she was right. She saw a man at the MetroCourt in a mask. Laura says Ava knows it’s Halloween, right? Ava says he was staring at her, and followed her to the gallery, but she was ready for him. She made him think she was leaving, but she surprised him. She had him at gunpoint, and told him to take off his mask. He wasn’t a stranger. It was Nikolas. Laura tears up, and says she wishes it was true. Ava says Laura’s not listening. Her son is alive. Laura says Ava knows that’s impossible. Ava says she watched Valentin shoot him, and watched him fall into the sea, but it’s true. Nikolas is alive. He’s come back to them. Laura wishes Ava was right, and again Ava says she’s not listening, but Laura says Ava isn’t listening. Nikolas is gone, and that’s the painful truth. Ava says she saw him standing where Laura is, and he was very, very real.

Sasha asks why Michael didn’t come to her, and he says he knew what she’d say. She says, so he ignored her wishes? He says it wasn’t her idea to pretend to be Nina’s daughter. None of it was her plan. She says, it was supposed to be a drive-by; she wasn’t supposed to get involved, and just go away quickly. It was her choice to stick around and get in deeper, and she has to face the consequences. She won’t allow Nina to get more hurt in the process.

Nina asks if Valentin is suggesting she walk away after all the anger and pain Sasha put her through. Think of Charlotte. She loved her stepsister, and they saw how crushed she was. Valentin says if they go to trial, Nina will have to testify, but so might Charlotte. Is that something they want to put themselves through?

Sonny tells Jax that he can leave. Jax says Sonny got Dev upstairs pretty fast, but Sonny says he didn’t think Josslyn would want an audience. Dev was sober; he had nothing to do with it. Sonny doesn’t think he even knew Josslyn and Cameron were drinking. Jax says they both agree it was agree it was out of character for Josslyn. Sonny asks how old Jax was when he had his first beer; twenty one? Jax says the legal age in Australia is eighteen, but he didn’t wait. Sonny says, what a coincidence; neither did he.

Hayden sees Elizabeth bringing Cameron into the hospital, and asks if everything is okay. Elizabeth says it’s fine, but Hayden can see it’s not. She says the morning isn’t going to be kind to Cameron, and Cameron says he wants to lie down. Elizabeth tells Hayden that Cameron got drunk on the Haunted Star, and they’re there because she hadn’t finished her shift. Hayden says at least he picked somewhere classy to get hammered. Cameron laughs, and Hayden suggests Elizabeth hook him up to some IV fluids. They’ll help sober him up, and he’ll be good as new in the morning. Cameron thinks that sounds like a good idea, but Elizabeth doesn’t want to deprive him of his first hangover. And when she drags him out of bed in the morning, he’ll have extra chores before he sees the principal.

Chase is surprised to see Julian away from Charlie’s on Halloween, but Julian says he’s not the biggest fan of the holiday. Willow says she has something that might change his mind, and shows him a picture of Wiley in a dinosaur costume, saying he has the cutest roar. Julian is glad Brad and Lucas are having some family time. Brad seems preoccupied all the time lately. Kip asks if there’s anything else he can do for Julian, and Julian suggests a celebratory drink. Chase asks what they’re celebrating, and Julian says, Wiley, and all the happy Halloweens he has to follow.

Sitting at an outside table I don’t recognize, Lucas says he’s proud of Brad for talking to Carly. He knows it wasn’t easy. Brad says Lucas was right; it’s better to be honest. Nothing is more important to him than Lucas and Wiley, and he wants to make sure Lucas knows how much he loves them. They kiss, and Brad says he wants to grab a coffee. He goes inside, and his phone dings. Lucas debates internally, then picks up the phone and looks. He doesn’t look happy.

Ava suggests they look at the security footage, and goes to get the memory card from the front entrance. She trots off, and Laura sniffs Ava’s glass. She calls Jax, and says she’s at the gallery. He asks if she found something, but she says, there’s been a complication. Ava is there, and she’s acting irrationally. Jax asks, in what way? and Laura , she thinks Nikolas is alive and came to visit her. Jax says, sorry. It must be hard on Laura. He asks if she wants him to come and handle it, but Laura says she’s fine. She just wants him to know that she doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him and Hayden to come poking around looking for the portrait. Ava has come back, and stands behind Laura. Jax says he understands, and Laura says she’ll call him back. Ava says she’s got it, and looks on her computer. She doesn’t understand. She heard him and saw him. Laura says, but there’s no proof, and Ava says Laura thinks she’s crazy.

Brad can tell something is wrong, and tells Lucas, he was gone for two minutes; what happened? Lucas says Brad got a text, and Brad asks, who from? Lucas asks Brad to tell him. Who’s sending him naked pictures? He shows Brad the phone, and Brad drops the coffee, the cups shattering on the ground.

Kip tells Julian, the falcon has left the nest. Julian laughs, and says, what? and Kip says, Elvis is enroute to the coliseum. He sent the picture. Julian gives him some money, and gets up to go. He tells Kip, one more thing. His shirt is untucked.

While Josslyn worships the porcelain throne, Carly says she just got off the phone with Elizabeth; always a pleasure. Is Josslyn feeling okay? Josslyn says she stopped throwing up; that’s a win. Carly asks, what happened? and Josslyn says she’s in pain. Carly asks why Josslyn didn’t come to her, and Josslyn asks what Carly could have done. She’s the one who lost the watch Oscar gave her, and she’s the one who didn’t notice it was gone. She promised to love him forever, and she lost the last thing he gave her. Carly asks if she got drunk to make herself feel better, and Josslyn says she thought it would take the edge off. Carly says Josslyn will feel better. It will take forever, but one day she’ll wake up, and realize she’s felt better for a while. It won’t make sense; it’s weird. Josslyn asks if they’re going to talk about her punishment now, and Carly says Josslyn got drunk at a school function. She’ll have to face the principal, and take whatever punishment he doles out. Josslyn asks, what about dad? and Carly says the three of them will have a long talk, but not tonight. She asks if Josslyn wants to go to bed, but she wants to stay there a little longer.

Sonny asks if there’s anything Dev wants to tell him, but Dev says he didn’t know until right before Cameron and Josslyn got caught. He’d never go along with something that would be bad for Josslyn.

Elizabeth asks what Cameron was thinking. He’s on probation, and he’s been before the judge twice this year. How much more trouble is he trying to get into? Cameron says the last time he was in court, Franco was by his side, and they were there because of what Cameron did for Oscar. Everything circles back to Franco, and now he can’t do a normal party like a normal kid. What is he going to talk about? Look how hot those cheerleaders are. Hey, my stepdad sacrificed his life for me. Elizabeth knows it’s hard for him, and Cameron says he thought it would be nice to forget for a while. Josslyn felt the same way. They tried pushing their lives back to the way it was, and maybe that’s as close as they’re going to get. He’s really sorry. Elizabeth says she keeps thinking… He could have passed out, and fallen in the water. He realizes that, and can’t believe how stupid he was. Elizabeth says, it’s a stupid age. He’ll get through it. They’ll get through it together.

Laura tells Ava that she knows what it’s like when the line between fantasy and reality blur. Ava says, it’s not a fantasy. Nikolas was here. Laura says Ava is in a lot of pain, and she’s been talking about finding a way to reach Kiki. Maybe… Ava says, this has nothing to do with Kiki. The feeling she had that someone was watching her has been going on for a month or so. That’s how long he’s been out there, watching. Laura says, it’s one thing to feel it, and another to start thinking people are coming back from the dead. Ava says Laura is his mother. Doesn’t she want to see him? Laura says, so much, every day, but she can’t. That’s wishful thinking. Ava says she saw him at the MetroCourt, and he followed her there. Laura says she saw him at the MetroCourt? Laura was there. Doesn’t Ava think he would talk to her? Ava sits, and says she knows what she saw. Laura says she believes Ava believes she saw him. She takes Ava’s hand, and tells Ava, she has to say it. Ava can’t go on like this much longer. She needs to get help. Ava cries, and asks if Laura will help. Laura holds Ava while she cries.

Brad tells Lucas that he has no idea who sent that. He asks if they can talk somewhere else, but Lucas says it’s as good a place as any to find out his husband is sexting with someone else. Brad says, it’s one random number; an accident. Lucas says, like the flowers, and Brad says, for the billionth time, he doesn’t know who sent them. He loves Lucas, and wishes Lucas would trust him. Lately his mind has been somewhere else. Lucas says, apparently, on someone else, but Brad says, there’s no one else. He reaches for Lucas, and Lucas says, don’t touch him.

Laura calls Julian, who says he’ll be right there. He leaves, and Willow says, Brad’s not the only one with a lot on his mind. Chase says, Julian seemed worried. He says Willow knows Brad, and asks if Brad has a right to be concerned, and Willow says, maybe, but Julian’s not the type to worry for no reason.

Cameron sleeps on one of the benches, and Hayden asks Elizabeth how he’s doing. Elizabeth says, he’ll live. She wants to let Hayden know that she and Violet can come live with them. Cameron lifts his head up, and asks, who’s coming to live with them? Elizabeth says his Aunt Hayden and cousin Violet. He says, he has a cousin Violet? and Elizabeth says she’ll tell him about it when he’s sober. Go back to sleep. Hayden looks at her phone, and says it’s a work emergency. Elizabeth says, at this hour? and Hayden says, the media never sleeps. She doesn’t want to interrupt Finn, and asks Elizabeth, if she sees him, tell him she’ll be back as soon as possible. Cameron says, he has a cousin? and Elizabeth says, she’ll tell him about it later. She’s going to see Finn, and when she gets back, they’re gong home. Lay back down.

Michael tells Sasha, if she’s so hellbent on protecting Nina, why is she encouraging Nina to be with a man who won’t do that? She says Nina and Charlotte love Valentin, and she’s not going to be the one who destroys that. Nina and Valentin approach them, and Nina tells Sasha not to say anything; just listen. She and Valentin have been talking, and even though Sasha doesn’t deserve mercy, she’s decided to drop the charges. Valentin looks at Michael.

Sonny asks Carly, how’s Josslyn? and Carly says, she’s over the rough part, but the morning won’t be pretty. Upstairs, Josslyn hears Oscar’s song lyrics – it’s never goodbye.

Cameron asks Elizabeth if he can stay there. He did this to himself, but to be honest, it’s not good for Jake or Aiden to see, and the car ride might be dicey. Elizabeth says they’re going to talk about consequences at length in the morning, but tonight, he’s going home. She hands him a barf bag, and he says, don’t say car sick. Elizabeth says she’s glad he’s okay, and they leave.

Chase says he doesn’t know Brad that well, but if Willow says there’s something off… She says Brad has been anxious since she’s known him, but for some reason, it’s gotten worse. At the bar, Kip counts the money.

Lucas says he doesn’t want to hear that Brad loves him, but Brad says, it’s the truth. He’s been doing everything to prove himself. Lucas says Brad still changed his password, and Brad says, he told Lucas… Lucas says, the biggest lie. The flowers, anonymous nudes; he has no idea what Brad really thinks. He knows the name. Admit it, and stop lying. Just tell him that he’s having an affair.

Sasha starts to thank Nina, but Nina says she asked Sasha not to say anything. She wants to be clear. Don’t mistake this for forgiveness. She’ll never forgive Sasha. She just wants to scrape Sasha off the bottom of her shoe. Michael says, enough, and Nina says, he thinks so? She lost a daughter that she loves, and a year of her life she’ll never get back. She’s glad Michael thinks it’s enough, but she sure as hell doesn’t. Valentin says he thinks they’ve reached the level of diminishing returns, and tells Nina, let’s go. When they’re out of earshot, Michael asks Sasha if she’s positive she wants Valentin to walk away unscathed. She says, if that’s what it takes for Nina to be happy. Michael hugs her, as Valentin hugs Nina, and Valentin and Sasha lock eyes.

Julian and Laura bring Ava to Shadybrook. She signs a form, and Laura takes her hand. Ava takes off her shoes and jewelry, and puts them in a bin. Julian hugs her, then Laura hugs her. Ava goes off with the nurse.

Jax lets Hayden into the house where Nina stayed the night of her wedding. She asks what the change in plans is, and he says, there’s been an unexpected complication. Nikolas walks out.

On Monday, Brad says he’d never cheat on Lucas, Sasha tells someone that she took the blame, and Jax tells Nikolas once it stops being attractive he’s out.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

👻 Due to decorating and preparing for little monsters demanding candy, today’s GH  recap will be less detailed, since I was quickly watching it at 2 am. A disappointment or a blessing – you decide. While we used to get 80 to 100+ kids, sadly, the powers that be have decided trick-or-treaters over the age of twelve, can be hit with a misdemeanor. Now we get half the kids. No surprise that NJ government has figured out yet another way to poop on everyone’s party. Hope the editing isn’t too wonky. God knows I am, and I only ate one Kit-Kat bar. Moving on…

General Hospital

The first thing we see is a dude taking a shower. We don’t see his face, but we see a signet ring on the vanity. Could it be…?

Chaperoning the PCHS Halloween Dance, Dustin is dressed as a busker. Cameron (a 50s teen), Josslyn (an 80s teen), Trina (an angel), and Dev (a football player) arrive together. No surprise, Lulu comes as Mary Poppins.

Neil shows up to keep an eye on Alexis at the hospital, relieving Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her boyfriend, Captain America, so they can go to the MetroCourt. At the MetroCourt, Kendra shows up, dressed as a mermaid. Valentin continues to yap to Nina about how important Helena’s portrait must be, and Ava has her listening ears on, as Judge Judy would say. Jax wonders if the treasure isn’t in the painting, but is the painting. Laura thinks it would be just like Helena to have them chase their tails when what they’re looking for is right in front of them. Laura wants to be the one to bring Valentin down. She couldn’t bear to lose Spencer the way she lost Nikolas.

Funny how in the next scene, we see the dude with the ring again. And we see a mask. Could it be…?

Sam meets her cellmate. It’s Cassandra. I find it a little hard to believe that Cassandra would act like a streetfighter, but okay.

Cameron and Josslyn commiserate. They both wish it was two years ago. Cameron tells Josslyn he has a way to make the dance more bearable, and shows her his hidden liquor.

Buzz Lightyear (Chase) and Cowgirl Jessie (Willow) arrive at the MetroCourt.

Jordon continues to worry about TJ and Molly committing too soon.

Valentin whines that Laura sees something he doesn’t in the portrait. Ava thinks perhaps there’s more the painting than she thought. The dude from the shower with the ring arrives wearing the mask. Jax wants to talk to Hayden, but she’s busy at the hospital.

Cassandra acts large, in charge, and immediately tries to walk all over Sam.

Valentin asks Ava what a painting by J. Garrin might be worth. She says five figures, unless it’s a puzzle, asking if the painting of Helena might contain a secret message. Laura literally runs into Nikolas the masked dude.

Josslyn wonders what Cameron is doing with liquor, and he says he thought it would make the dance more fun, or at least easier for them. She’s not sure that’s the way to go, especially since he’s on probation. She also reminds him that they’re at the dance with Trina and Dev. Ava calls Trina, wondering about the receipt for the painting, and Trina tells her that Dev got it from the trash barge, but they’d said it was okay for him to take it. Laura apologizes to the masked dude, and he says nothing, following Ava to the elevator. The doors close before he can get in.

Molly introduces herself and TJ to Kendra, saying Alexis raves about her all the time. TJ adds, Alexis swears by the results of the supplement Kendra gave her. Kendra describes it as, the right amount of elements to put the world in order.

Neil offers Alexis a ride home. Hayden apologizes to Finn again. He’s still trying to wrap his head around the fact that his daughter even exists. Hayden says, going forward, she wants Violet to be closer to her father.

Sam tells Cassandra that she has to prep for her trial. Cassandra says they have her dead to rights, on two continents, and in the Caribbean. Sam asks what Cassandra did, and Cassandra asks, here, or in the Hague? Sam asks who she is, and she says, Cassandra Pierce, but Sam can call her boss.

Finn asks what part he’s going to play in Violet’s life, and she asks, what part does he want to play?

Ava checks out the portrait again, remarking, Trina was right; it is creepy. She wonders why anyone would want Helena on their wall, and why so many are interested in her portrait.

Sasha tries to be nice to Nina, but she’s not having it. She thanks Sasha for reminding her of what she lost and she’ll never have again. She doesn’t even want to look at Sasha, but says she’ll soon be in prison. Unless Michael buys her freedom. Willow interrupts, telling Nina, that’s enough.

Curtis thinks Jordan is comparing TJ and Molly to her own life, and marrying too young. She admits they’re more mature than she was, but says that still doesn’t mean they should get married so young.

Lulu tells Dustin about traveling the world when she was a kid. She’s happy to have settled down now, and asks Dustin if he’s happy, and did he always want to be a teacher. He tells her that he had ideas for his life, but life had other plans. Cameron talks Josslyn into partaking, but she wants to drink outside. Trina tries to chat up Dev. Dev notices Cameron and Josslyn are gone, and Trina kisses him. He says he likes her, just not in that way. I go, ugh. Nobody wants to hear that. She says his loss, and asks if he’s interested in someone else.

Cameron and Josslyn drink on deck. They talk about Oscar and Franco. Cameron says he’s not allowed to miss Franco, because he has look out for his mom and brothers. Josslyn tells him about journaling. He asks what she’ll write about tonight, and she tells him, it could have been worse, but it wasn’t. Because of him.

Jordan isn’t sure Molly and TJ are up to the challenge of mixed race children. She wants at least one of them to move away, and have more life experience first. Curtis says she likes Molly. What if TJ picks someone she doesn’t like? She says she’d have to respect his choice, and Curtis wonders why that doesn’t apply here. She said her piece. Now it’s up to TJ and Molly, but it’s not a done deal. When Stella hears about it, she’ll have something to say, and Jordan can let her take the fire.

TJ goes to catch up with Jordan, and Molly tells Kendra about Alexis being in the hospital.

Neil says a teeny part of him was glad to find out Alexis was really sick, and not faking it to get rid of him. Hayden tells Finn he can be what he wants to Violet. It’s up to him, and she’ll go along with whatever he decides. Jax shows up at the hospital, and Hayden explains Violet got sick, and Finn now knows he’s her father. He tells Hayden that they have a theory as to where the codicil might be.

Ava talks to someone about the portrait. She’s going to have it appraised, but needs to safeguard her investment. She tells Helena’s portrait, maybe she’ll finally bring more than heartache and heartbreak. Things are starting to turn around.

Dustin asks if Lulu wants to make the rounds with him. He tells her what the dance rules are, and explains kisses are on a case by case basis. He demonstrates by kissing her. Trina pumps Dev for information on who he likes. He says he’s too busy for romance.

Cameron says the dance has been pretty okay, thanks to Josslyn. She says she would never have made it this far without him. He’s the best friend she could have.

Alexis tells Neil his visit was not expected, but also not unwelcome. She suggests they try it again. She suddenly feels pain from the rash on her palms.

Sam says Cassandra is the one who messed with Michael’s girlfriend. She’s surprised Cassandra lived long enough for them to meet. Cassandra says, life is unpredictable. She’s surprised Sonny has lived that long as he has after turning down her business proposal. Sam says her husband and Sonny are business associates, and Cassandra says, not Jason Morgan? and is she the infamous Sam? Sam says Cassandra will be sorry if she messes with her, and Cassandra takes out a knife.

Michael tells Valentin that he’s running out of patience. Valentin says Nina is upset, and it’s going to take time to talk her out of prosecuting Sasha. Michael says Valentin doesn’t want to lose Nina and go to prison, and Valentin says Michael doesn’t want him as an enemy. Laura says it’s not shaping up to be Valentin’s night.

Nina asks if Chase and Willow have any idea what Sasha did to her. Willow says going after Sasha isn’t going to make Nina feel good, and Nina thanks her for the life lesson. She’s sure it’s easy to say that from the sidelines. She asks what if someone came to Willow, and said Wiley wasn’t her son, and she was never a mother at all?

At the gallery, Ava hears something, but tells herself that she’s just being jumpy. She turns out the lights, and the masked dude walks in.

Trina needs to talk to Josslyn, but realizes she’s drunk. She says they need to get Josslyn out of there, and on the way out, they see Dustin kissing Lulu. Josslyn says she’s going to hurl. Dev asks where Cameron was, and Cameron says, around, knocking over the candy bowl on the snack table. Dev tries to help Cameron pick up the candy, and realizes Cameron is drunk. Josslyn throws up over the side of the boat, and Trina says they have to get her out of there, but Lulu and Dustin walk out, and Lulu asks if Josslyn has been drinking.

TJ updates Jordan and Curtis on Alexis. Jordan suggests Alexis is going to be TJ’s mother-in-law, but he says Molly has to say yes first. He asks if she’s on board, and Jordan says he’s his own man. She couldn’t be happier or prouder of him.

Molly tells Kendra that she has complete confidence in the medical staff at GH, and Alexis will be fine. Kendra says she can’t be too careful, since Alexis’s illness might be catching. Molly doesn’t want to get what Alexis has.

Alexis tells Finn she’s getting a prickling sensation in her hands. He checks her feet, and she feels the same thing there. He says, whatever she has, it’s not just something going around.

Nina says Michael’s mistress doesn’t know when to let something drop. Michael joins them, and says Sasha has as much right to be there as Nina does, and Nina says, how any of them dare imply she’s treating Sasha unfairly? For a year, Sasha lied to her face, used her, and took advantage of her deepest loss. What if twenty years from now, someone came to Michael, and said they were the child he lost? He’d love to know why Nina is so convinced Sasha came up with this lie all by herself.

Hayden tells Jax the portrait is an expensive piece of trash, and he flashes back to Dev saying, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and saying people put expensive stuff in the trash all the time. Hayden tells Jax it’s worse than being back to square one if Valentin is suspicious. He asks what she would do, as an enterprising teenager, if she came across the portrait. She says, burn it probably, but he says she’d try to sell it. She’d take it to Ava.

Laura wonders what’s next for Valentin, after his wedding being ruined and getting slapped down by Michael.

Cassandra says Sam must be a disappointment to the Cassadines, who are ruthless, but refined and cultured, except for her. Sam asks if that’s what Valentin told her, and Cassandra says, amongst others. She flashes back to being in a limo, and asking what someone wants from her. A hand, wearing the signet ring, rests on her knee.

We see the ring on the hand of the masked dude. Ava comes up behind him with her gun, and asks if he ever gets that feeling; like he’s being watched.

Laura thinks Valentin’s time at the head of the Cassadine table is up. He asks who’s going to take it? Spencer.

Ava says as soon as she saw him, she knew he was the man who was stalking her. No one believed her, but here he is, and she’s going to find out who he is. She tells him, take off the mask. He does, and she says, Nikolas?

Tomorrow, Jax tells Laura that Helena’s portrait may have found its way to Ava’s gallery, Cameron is busted by Dustin, and Carly tells Brad that the ball is in his court – play it wisely.

Million Dollar Listing New York – Season Finale

Ryan was trying to hunt down Luis about their co-listing for Ian, but Luis was spending every minute he could with his daughter. They finally connected, and Ryan set up a socialite dinner party, where he invited everyone from the influencers of influencers to Ramona Singer. Ramona was – no surprise – a total pita; pointing out every negative she could think of, whining about how outdated the décor was, and bugging the chefs cooking the dinner. Luis managed to keep Ramona sidelined, so she didn’t interfere with Ryan showing the apartment. One of the guests talked to a friend, who turned out to want a private showing. He decided the apartment wasn’t for him, since it would require too much in the way of renovation. Ryan just happened to mention the raw space Ian was renovating downstairs. That, he was interested in, and made an offer.

Luis also got an offer on the original apartment, but Ian said no to both. Ryan blamed it on the 12 month extension that Luis had wanted. Much to their dismay, Luis and Ryan realized they enjoyed working together.

Steve did some private showings of the Bed Sty townhouse, while Jess did separate showings. Steve was thrilled that Jess was doing what takes be a good agent in a tough market. The sellers had moved to Manhattan, and were more motivated to sell, but the seller still balked at Steve getting an offer for less than the full asking price, and Jess getting an offer for asking price, but it would require a 60 day contingency. This basically meant that the buyer had 60 days to get financing, but during that time, the apartment would be off the market. Understandable why  the seller wouldn’t be keen on that. In the end, there was a compromise. The seller took the full ask offer, but the contingency was shortened to 30 days, and none of the furnishings would be included.

Fredrik was showing the huge Soho apartment non-stop, but got no offers. He told us that people from L.A. tended to want more space, and found an L.A. broker with a mogul client. It wasn’t quite what the mogul was looking for, and Fredrik let slip (cough, cough) that the owner also had a penthouse, but it wasn’t on the market yet. He’d gotten in trouble for showing an unlisted penthouse once before, and took a chance. An offer was made, and while the owner wanted to wait for a better price, she gave Fredrik the listing, admiring his drive.

Tyler was met with two owners about a property in Nomad that had a private pool, and wraparound terrace. Once again, he came up against his usual problem, the owners weren’t keen on someone who hadn’t sold in that price range before ($13 million). Tyler told them that what he could offer was dedication. He’d taken his team from three employees to two hundred, but even better had dropped two hundred pounds and kept it off. The two men conversed in Hebrew (I think), and one of them said when they were immigrants, they’d needed first chances, and gave him the listing. Both Tyler and I were more than thrilled, and after throwing so many parties to show apartments, Tyler had his own party. Tyler said he wasn’t afraid of the other brokers he was up against, and hoped to build an empire like theirs. This year had been about finding out who he was, and figuring out his place in the world. Goal achieved.

Steve threw a housewarming party, with Fredrik, Ryan, and Luis, along with their families in attendance. Steve told us that he finally realized what life was about. The year had been his most rewarding; personally, professionally, and financially. He felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

Ryan joked that Steve was copying him by moving and having a baby. He and Amelia were busy renovating their new Borum Hill townhouse, and he was excited. The year had been up and down for emotionally, and the market had beat him up. But he took a breath, and said he’s got this. He was doing it for his family, which was the most important thing.

Fredrik decided, ultimately, he was thankful for the horrible market. To continue his climb up, he had to be inventive and creative. He decided to rent the house in L.A., and even better, brother Sigge would be following him. He and his family felt at home wherever Fredrik was. Fredrik was excited about the future, and while he would never really leave NYC, decided he could date two cities at the same time.

Luis told us that he’d gotten used to being back, but he and his family would be moving to Puerto Rico for a year or two, and focusing on their daughter. He told us, let time unfold, and it will show you that it will be okay. He’d gone off to find himself, and now he was driven by the realization that he was finally in place of substance.
