August 2, 2023 – Cyrus Gives Martin a Task, Shannon’s Not Riding That Train & Penny

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

On the phone, Laura says she’s been updated on Curtis’s condition. She’s sorry she left Jordan with so much to deal with, but she also knows Jordan is perfectly capable of handling it…. Laura thanks her and says, goodbye, when there’s a knock at the door. It’s Valentin, who asks what time they’re leaving for the airport. Laura says she and Doc are leaving in an hour, but he’s not coming with him.

Martin is let into Cyrus’s hospital room, and Cyrus says, you’ve come to see thy brother. Martin says he’s only here because he was informed it was a matter of life or death, and Cyrus says, it is. Like their Savior, he’s faced death only to embrace life in all its glory. Martin says he’s truly sorry to hear about the heart attack, but comparing himself to God is definitely going too far, even for Cyrus.

In the nook, Tracy asks when the wandering warbler walked in (try saying that 3 times real fast), and Olivia says, Dante brought him here last night. He was out bar hopping at all hours. Tracy’s got to help her. She doesn’t even recognize her husband anymore. Tracy says she’s sorry. She has to deal with reality today. Olivia is going to have to deal with fantasy. As Tracy walks out, Olivia says, he’s still her son. Leo comes in and says, Eddie slept here last night. Leo was watching him sleep. He snores. When is dad coming back? She says she wishes she knew, when Ned/Eddie walks in and says, so that’s where I am.

Brook calls Chase at the hospital, and asks how he is. He says he’s busy. Her? She says, same. She was thinking maybe they could have lunch. He says he’s going to be tied up at GH, and she asks why he’s there, but he says he’s sorry. He’s got to go, but he misses her. Maxie watches her, as Brook says she misses him too, but he’s already hung up. Brook says, be careful, and looks at The Invader headline: MURDER AT GH. Maxie says, it never gets any easier, and Brook says she didn’t know Maxie had come in. What never gets any easier? Maxie says, being in love with a cop.

Sam goes into Kelly’s, and tells Carly, it looks like somebody had a busy morning. Carly says, it’s amazing how many people are at that door at 6 am, waiting for her to flip the sign. Does Sam want some breakfast? Sam says, actually, she wants a coffee to go. She wondered if Carly knew how Drew was doing. Carly says she thought Sam took Scout to see him, and Sam says she tried, but they wouldn’t let them in. They said there was some sort of an incident.

Austin picks up Cyrus’s chart, and Chase gets his attention. Austin asks if he can help Chase with something, and Chase says he’s working on a case. Can Austin answer a few questions about this guy? He shows Austin a picture of Gordon’s dead body.

On the phone in his office, Sonny says, he took two bullets to the chest at GH, in his territory… He thinks they’re trying to send him a message. So he might just send them a message. Frank comes in, and Sonny asks if the job is done. Frank says, yes, boss, and Sonny says, and? Frank says, in the trunk. Sonny tosses down his phone and says, let’s go make a delivery.

Ned asks how he got here, and Olivia says, Dante saw him staggering around some random bar. Lucky he didn’t get arrested. She hands him some coffee, and he says he’d better tell Sonny, but she says she already called him. He’s sending Ned’s things. Ned says he guesses that’s a hint. He’s crashed in worse places. She says, he ought to be drinking water; he’s going to dehydrate. She’ll make him some eggs. He says, no. He would hurl. Leo asks if he’s sick, but he says he’s just a little hung over. Leo says, hung over what? and Olivia says, it’s a condition that adults get when they’ve spent the entire night making fools of themselves. Leo asks if that’s why his eyes are red, and Olivia suggests he get Ned an ice pack from the freezer. Leo tells Ned, that means she wants to talk to him alone, and leaves. She asks if Ned’s had a look in the mirror and realized he’s a little old for this.

Valentin says, okay, but doesn’t Laura need his help getting on to… She says she doesn’t actually. They needed his help before, and he was very helpful. They really appreciate it, but she and Doc have it from here. Doc walks in, and Valentin says, he’s behind this, isn’t he? Doc says he hopes so, and Laura says she was just explaining to Valentin that they’re going to go on, just the two of them. Doc says, yes, well the only reason Valentin came along was because Laura had information Nikolas might be in Chechnya. Valentin knows the country and the language, but Nikolas isn’t there. They don’t need him anymore. Valentin says he knows Doc has no use for him, but shouldn’t his wife’s safety be more important than hatred?

Cyrus asks Martin, where is his beautiful sister? He was hoping she’d come as well. Her aura guided him through his darkest hours. Martin says, Laura and her aura are somewhere in Europe right now, and Cyrus says he hopes she’s having a wonderful time. God has given him a gift, and an important message. Martin says, don’t open til Christmas? and Cyrus says, normally, he would welcome Martin’s humor, but this is a serious issue, and Martin’s lack of faith in him breaks his heart. Martin says he hasn’t got time for this. What’s so damn urgent? Cyrus says he needs Martin to give all his money away.

Brook says she was just calling Chase to say hello, and Maxie asks if he’s working that murder case at GH. Brook says she thinks so, but he won’t talk about it, and Maxie says, he doesn’t want to worry her. Brook says she thinks she’d worry less if he talked about it, but Maxie says, she wouldn’t. Is that why she was so desperate for Chase to be a singer? Brook says, no, but she can’t help but think it would have made her life easier, and Maxie says, really? All those girls fawning over him? Brook says, they still fawn over him when he’s not singer, and Maxie says, that’s a whole other issue. Brook asks if it gets easier, and Maxie says, not really, but you learn to live with it. Then when you’re phone rings in the middle of the night… Brook says she’s sorry and suggests they drop it, but Maxie says, it’s okay. Brook is her friend and she loves her. Brook says she loves Maxie too, but Maxie lost Nathan. Maxie says she did, but he was doing a job he loved, and that made him the man that she loved. Would Chase ever have been really happy being a singer? Brook says, no. She guesses she just has to accept this is his calling. He’s so passionate about it, and she knows how much it means to him. Maxie says, and when we love someone, isn’t that what we want for them? Brook says she’ll get there, and Maxie says, she will. Brook asks what Maxie has in her hand, and Maxie says, a list of arguments so their major distributor doesn’t drop all of their products. Brook says, what? Did it work? Maxie says she was able to talk them off the ledge when Lucy came back from the dead, but the main Face of Deception going homicidal? They couldn’t take that.

Austin suggests they talk privately, and Chase says, he’s a tough guy to track down. They’ve been trying to find Austin since the shooting the other night. Austin says, after working a double shift, he just crashes. He has to decompress. Chase says he bets. So what about this guy? Austin says he does recognize him because he treated him here at the ER, and Chase asks if Austin can tell him what for, but Austin says he can’t. Patient/doctor confidentiality. He’s sure Chase understands. Chase asks if that’s the only time Austin saw him, and Austin says, as a patient, yes, but he tracked Austin down after that at the Port Charles Grill. He was upset about his bill. Chase asks, when was this? and Austin says, a couple days ago. Chase asks if Austin was the only one there when this happened, and Austin says, no. He was with Ava Jerome and Nina Reeves and Sonny Corinthos. Chase says he has one other question, and shows Austin another photo. It’s Dex.

Carly says she’s so sorry that Scout and Drew didn’t get to see each other, and Sam says her too. Scout was really disappointed, but she told her that she’d ask Carly how her dad was doing. Carly says, their visit was great. She couldn’t believe it took such a long time to see him, and of course (🍷) Drew wanted her to wait even longer. Sam says, he can be a martyr like that, and Carly says, in a good way. Sam says she is kind of worried about him. It’s the kind of people he’s in there with. Not that she doesn’t think he can take care of himself, because she knows he can, but still. Carly says, he’s okay. Tell Scout not to worry about her daddy. Sam thanks her, and says she knows this has to be hard on Carly. She and Drew just started their relationship. Now they’re separated. Carly says, Sam knows what it’s like; her and Dante. It’s the beginning. You want to find out every single thing you can about that person, and want to grow with them. It’s hard. Sam says, it’s really a special time, and Carly says, it is, and being away from the person you love the most… Sam turns around to see Sonny walk in.

Brook says, they both know Sasha didn’t realize what she was doing, and Maxie says she knows; she was there. Sasha had no idea what was going on. But the optics still stink. And so does being moved to the bottom shelf of every major department and cosmetics store. Brook says, no, but Maxie says, yeah. If it wasn’t for The Deceptor, this company would be doomed. Thank goodness they didn’t put Sasha’s face on the Deceptor box. Does she sound heartless? Brook says, no. She sounds like a good businesswoman. She knows how much Maxie loves Sasha, and would do anything for her to get better, but she also has a responsibility to the company and the stockholders. There’s a knock at the door, and Tracy walks in. She says, there Brook is, and Brook says, they’re in the middle of a business crisis, but Tracy says, it will have to wait. They need to have a private conversation where they won’t be disturbed by Brook’s father.

Ned tells Olivia, old? How does someone old manage to hit The Savoy – which, by the way, is a little too fancy for his taste – and then… Well, a couple of the bars that are definitely more his style. Loud, rocking music, down to earth, the right kind of crowd… She says, dive bars, and he says, exactly. He loves dive bars. She says, tell her something. When he looked around these wonderful dive bars, how many grandfathers did he see? I’ll bet more than you would think.

Martin says, no doubt any money Cyrus has was illegally obtained, but by all means, which victim would Cyrus like him to make the check out to? Cyrus says, Martin has to understand. The warmth of that white light was incredible. It was flowing through his entire body, and he was moving right into it, as if to become a part of it, but the love of his dear sister and brother and their beloved mother pulled him back, both emotionally and spiritually. Martin says, the money, and Cyrus says, it was Drew Cain who performed the CPR that kept him alive. The man didn’t have to do that, but because of Drew’s heroics, he’s still here. And now he’ll be able to do the work God has tasked him with. Martin says, what exactly is that?

Austin tells Chase, this guy is certainly more alive. Is he supposed to know who he is? Chase says, he was spotted outside Austin’s office door by a member of the staff before he came across the victim later that night. Austin says, it sounds like that guy would know more about what’s going on than he would, and Chase says, they’re questioning everyone who was here that night. It’s routine, for now. Austin says he has a patient he should get to, so if Chase has no more questions… He starts to walk, and Chase says, call him if Austin remembers anything. Austin says, absolutely, and Chase notices the chart. He says, Cyrus Renault. Is he one of Austin’s patients? Austin says, he will be as soon as he meets him, and Chase says, watch your back.

Sonny says hi to Carly and Sam, when the phone rings, and Carly says she’s got to take this. Sam asks how the wedding planning is going, and Sonny says, it’s going. He hopes Dante realizes how lucky he is. She says, it’s a two-way street, and he says, Dante isn’t the only one who’s crazy about her. He had a heart-to-heart with Rocco, and he thinks she’s terrific, and he’s a lot like his grandfather, a tough sell. Sam thanks him for telling her, and he says, don’t expect him to… She says, he’s right. It’s good to see him. He says, it’s good to see her, and she leaves. Carly apologizes, and Sonny says, it looks like business is good. She says, it’s picked up a bit, and he says he’s not surprised. The owner has a solid reputation for running a good establishment. She thanks him, and says, if it keeps up at this pace and she manages the books just right, she’ll be able to keep the house. He says he can help her out with that, but she says she doesn’t need anything. Besides, she can’t take money from anyone. He says, got it, and she asks why he’s here. He says he came to make her an offer she can’t refuse.

Doc says, Valentin thinks he’d put Laura’s life in jeopardy because he has a grievance with him? It was a long time ago; he can get past it. Unless Valentin has an issue with that. Valentin says, no issue, and Laura asks if she can have a word alone with Valentin. Doc could tell the front desk they’re checking out. Doc says he’d be delighted to do that. Valentin is right about one thing. Doc doesn’t particularly like him, but he does appreciate Valentin’s help in Chechnya. He leaves, and Valentin says, Doc must really love Laura to put up with him. Doc hates his guts. She says she really wouldn’t go that far. Doc has some issues with him, but he’s come to understand Valentin’s value, as has she. And he’s also begun to understand that she’s come to care about Valentin. It’s because of that, she’s telling him that he needs to go back to Port Charles.

Martin says he’s waiting with bated breath, and Cyrus says, as Martin knows, he’s not legally able to handle any of his assets while he’s in prison. Therefore, he’s granted the authority to Martin to access his trust. Martin asks when he did that, and Cyrus says, very early this morning. He’ll find the papers right there. Martin picks up an envelope from the tray and asks, for what reason is he now in control of Cyrus’s money? Cyrus says, so Martin can help his brothers and sisters held in that purgatory called Pentenville. He’s spent enough time there to recognize that within those walls there is no rehabilitation for the vulnerable or weak. Martin says, this is supposed to help them? and Cyrus says, used properly, they could help them learn to lead productive lives, so they can help others when they get out, not hurt them. Martin says, when Cyrus had the heart attack, he didn’t fall and hit his head on anything, did he? and Cyrus laughs. He says, this is his calling. God has let him survive for this reason and he will not let Him down.

Ned tells Olivia, no, no, no. He is not a grandfather. She says, actually, he kind of is. Technically, he’s not. He says, that’s good, because what he is, is an artist. He’s free and he’s wild, and that’s how he’ll always be. She says, maybe he’s free and wild up here, pointing to his head, but this is not going to last if he’s hanging out all night drinking and partying. He’s going to give himself a damn stroke. He says, you know what’s going to give him a stroke? Her nagging. What he can’t figure out is how the guy she says he used to be could somehow be married to her, because no way any part of him would marry such an uptight shrew. He takes his coffee, and leaves her with her mouth hanging open.

Tracy tells Brook, Olivia doesn’t even know her own husband. At least he came home last night. Brook says she saw him, and Tracy says, not of his own accord; Dante had to drag him. It’s ridiculous a man of his age is running around pretending to be some alter-ego. Brook says, she doesn’t know that he’s pretending, and Tracy says, if he’s not, he really needs some serious help. Olivia is so tense, she’s snapping at everything, and poor Leo… What does Maxie think? Is Ned being fair to his family? Does she think he’s faking? Maxie says she thinks she needs to get some coffee. Does anybody want anything? No? Great. She jets, and Tracy closes the door, saying, she never thought Maxie would leave. Now. What does Brook have for her on The Deceptor?

Frank brings in a humongous sack of coffee, and Carly says she already has a huge supply of Corinthos Coffee… but business is picking up. So Sonny is right. How could she possibly refuse? Sonny tells Frank to put it in the kitchen, and tells Carly, it’s a good luck gift. Not that she needs it, but he wanted to thank her for picking up Avery last night. He knows how busy she is. She says she’s never too busy for the kids. They had a great time. Ava stopped by. She said she was just coming by to give Avery a goodnight kiss, but she could tell something was wrong, and it’s not just that she hates Avery’s new nanny. He says, Betty is an acquired taste, and she says she knows there’s something fishy about the last minute sleepover. So why doesn’t he just tell her what’s going on? He says he’s handling it, when Chase comes in and asks Sonny if he can have a word.

Austin goes into Cyrus’s room and asks how he’s feeling. He looks extremely healthy for the man who had the heart attack described in his chart. Cyrus says, God works in mysterious ways, and Austin says, He sure does. Cyrus says he was mere seconds away from shedding this mortal coil, and now he’s here feeling no pain and ready to do God’s work. Austin says, right. How about they start with him just taking a look at Cyrus?

Valentin says he cares about Laura too, and she laughs, telling him, that was really hard for him to say. He says, she’s a good person. Doc’s a lucky man. Doc’s got a lot of strong qualities, but he thinks over here he can protect her better than Doc can. She says, there are other people who need him. Charlotte’s back from summer camp; she needs her father. And he’s a wonderful father. As a matter of fact, she was going to ask him a favor; if he could check on Spencer for her when he gets back. He says he doesn’t think Spencer is going to appreciate that, but she says, there are other people, like Anna. He says, when Victor exposed her, he made her vulnerable, but he’s in touch with Anna every day and she’s handling it. Laura asks if she’d admit it if she weren’t, and he says, no. She says, so he knows she was at the MetroCourt pool when Curtis was shot and that he might not be the actual target. Anna needs him.

Leo asks, where’s Eddie? and Olivia says, hopefully, he’s sleeping it off. Leo says, sleeping what off? What did he have on? She says she just means getting over his headache. He asks why she’s sad, and she says she can’t keep anything from him, can she? He shakes his head, and she says she just misses his dad. He says, him too, and she asks what he thinks of Eddie. Leo says, he’s funny. Eddie thinks he’s smart. Olivia says, Leo is smart, but he says, some people don’t think so. She says, that’s their problem, isn’t it? What else does he like about Eddie? He says, Eddie likes when he smiles. He can tell. She says, then he can’t be all bad, can he? and hugs Leo.

Carly looks puzzled as she watches Chase and Sonny go outside. In the courtyard, Chase thanks Sonny, and says, it’s quieter out here. Sonny asks what he can do for Chase, and Chase says he wants to talk to Sonny about the shooting outside General Hospital a few days ago. Sonny says he heard about that, and Chase says, everyone did. Someone takes two bullets to the chest outside their biggest hospital, people talk. Sonny says he’s not sure how he can help Dex, and Chase shows him the picture of Dex, saying, this guy works for him, right? Sonny laughs, and says, Chase knows he does. Chase says he’s just confirming, and Sonny says, it’s confirmed. Chase says, Dex discovered the body, and Sonny says, Chase knows he knows that too. So if Chase has real questions, he’ll listen. Chase asks, what was Dex doing at GH the night of the murders?

Maxie brings in a list and hands it to Carly, telling her, coffee and pastries, and Carly asks why Maxie would bring the order here. This is for Deception, right? They always order from the MetroCourt. Maxie says she needed some air, and Carly says, and Maxie found out she took over Kelly’s, huh? Maxie says, that too. Is that a bad thing? Carly says, of course (🍷) not. She just hopes Nina doesn’t get upset… How did Maxie find out she was running Kelly’s? Maxie says, Nina.

On the phone at the hospital, Martin says he wouldn’t bother her, but she did make him promise to call, and Laura asks, how’s Cyrus? Martin says, he’s definitely worth the price of admission. Apparently, her aura helped him connect with God. She rolls her eyes and says, whatever. How’s he doing physically? Martin says, he’s doing remarkably well for a man his age who’s just had a heart attack. And get this. He’s assigned Martin the task of giving away all his money. She says she’s not even going to ask. She’s sorry she left him to deal with all of this on his own. He says he’s not on his own. No matter where she is, she’s always in his heart. He just hopes she’s safe. And he’ll continue to keep her posted. She says, please do, and thanks him for the update. Doc says, he assumes her convict brother will survive, and she says, it sounds like it, yeah. He says, relieved? and she says she is. He says, good. Where’s their friend? She says, Valentin’s on his way to the airport. He wants to get back to Port Charles as soon as possible. Doc says he’s glad Valentin is gone. He may be better trained to protect her under certain circumstances. She says she doesn’t need that kind of protection where they’re going.

Leo reads his Photo Ark Wonders book in the nook, and Ned says he guesses there’s no more coffee. Where’s Leo’s mom? Leo says, she’s putting the ice pack in the freezer. Ned says, darn it. He could use that ice pack. Is Leo going to tell him about another cool animal? Leo closes the book and says, his mom was trying to help Eddie. Why did he make her feel sad?

Brook asks what Tracy is talking about. She already risked her job and her friendships to give her that flashdrive with all the information on The Deceptor. Tracy says, that was weeks ago. She needs to be brought up to date. She looks through papers on the credenza, and Brook says, any new information on The Deceptor is hidden in a secure location, and she’s not wiling to jeopardize her job again. Tracy laughs and says, come on. Lucy Coe is a birdbrain. She couldn’t install a security protocol if her life depended on it. Maxie’s a smart cookie, but Brook is a Quartermaine. Brook holds up her tablet, showing her The Sun headline: The Face of Evisceration. She asks if Tracy can see it, or does she need her glasses? Tracy says, she stabbed the stableboy by the pool. What’s the big deal? Brook says, she was at Michael and Willow’s wedding looking completely normal and beautiful and smiling, and Tracy says, people change? Brook says, she’s the Face of Deception, and this, right now, is killing the company. The only thing making a profit is The Deceptor, and she isn’t willing to risk it for Tracy.

Carly asks if Nina told Maxie to come here, but Maxie says, no. Nina didn’t tell her not to either. She understands that after everything that’s happened, Carly hates Nina, but Carly says, they’re not going to do that because that is in the past. She’s realized that hatred and anger and resentment is just a vicious cycle. It can pull you down, and she’s not going to let that happen to her. Maxie says, wow. She doesn’t know if anyone would recognize this Carly. Carly says she’s not sure she would recognize this Carly, and Maxie says, she does seem really driven though. It’s not easy to run a place like this. Carly says, it’s not. you’ve got to keep your eye on everything. Maxie says, and the long hours, but Carly says she doesn’t mind that. She intends to prove to certain people that she’s not dependent on anyone. Maxie says she never thought Carly was, and Carly thanks her for that. She never thought she was either. Maxie says, if anyone can make a place like this even better, it’s Carly, and Carly says, yeah, and Kelly’s is just the first step.

Sonny tells Chase, from his understanding, the first detective on the scene was Dante. That makes it his case. Chase says, they’re partners; they share cases. And since Dante is Sonny’s son, they thought it better if Chase questions him. He looks at his notebook, and says, before he discovered the body, Dex Heller was seen lurking outside an office building at General Hospital. Was he working for Sonny that night? Sonny says, Chase said lurking? Is that like the guy who was outside his office when he came here this morning? So probably the same guy who told Chase he was here. Because he considers that lurking. Chase asks if that’s his answer, and Sonny says, Chase is going to have to ask Dex why he was at the hospital. Chase says he spoke to Dr. Gatlin-Holt. He said the murder victim, Gordon Stevens, approached him at a restaurant with Sonny present. Does Sonny care to comment on that? Sonny says, Chase will have to contact his lawyer if he has any more questions. Good luck, detective. He goes back inside.

Tracy says, so the only thing keeping this ridiculous business model afloat is The Deceptor? and Brook says, yes. So please, don’t do anything to hurt her friends. Tracy says, there are no friends in business. They’re family. Brook will use her inside access to get Tracy all the information she possibly can. Now she’s going home to check on Brook’s father. Who knows what trouble Eddie Maine is stirring up, or if he’s even out of bed yet.

Ned drinks some water, and Leo says, the National Academy of Sciences recommends 3.7 liters of water a day for a man like him. Ned says, how much is that in English? and Leo says, 15.6 cups. Ned says he has a long way to go, when Olivia comes in. Leo says, Eddie’s drinking water to get hydrated, and she says she sees that. Ned says he was wondering if her offer for some breakfast still stands, and Leo says, yay! A second breakfast. His mom makes amazing frittatas. Ned says, sounds good, and she says, coming right up. Leo asks if Ned knows what a frittata is, and Ned says he doesn’t, but he bets Leo is just the guy who can tell him. Aww. I’m liking this storyline.

Doc says, maybe it would be better if he were to go alone, but Laura says, absolutely not. He says, what she experienced on Cassadine Island is a kind of long term trauma, and she says she can handle that. He says, but what Helena, Stavros, Mikkos did to her… She says, they’re all dead. They’re all gone, and she survived. They can’t hurt her now. Besides, if Nikolas wants to find a place to hide from the rest of the world, that is the perfect spot. He says, all right, but he’ll be with her every step of the way. Promise him if anything starts to come up again, just tell him. She says she promises she will, but she’s not going to let that stop her from finding her son.

Cyrus says, what’s the good word, doctor? and Austin says, the good word is that he wouldn’t recommend Cyrus run a marathon any time soon, but he’s doing extremely well. Cyrus says, God makes miracles, and Austin says, sometimes the human body does too. Cyrus says, and God made us all, and Austin starts to leave, but Cyrus grabs his wrist. He says, Austin is looking at a man who shattered every Commandment in his previous life. Does he have any idea what that’s like to turn completely away from God? Austin says, it’s probably not great, and Cyrus says, yet here he is, given a second chance. Austin says he does hope Cyrus can take advantage of it, and Cyrus says he has every intention of doing just that. Austin extracts himself, and starts to leave, when Cyrus says, may the Lord bless Austin and protect him. And his family. Austin leaves, and Cyrus smiles.

Carly asks if everything’s all right with Chase, and Sonny says, yeah. Chase is a good guy. She’s doing a good thing. She says, Kelly’s? and he says, she took a lot of hits and she bounced back. It’s not easy to do that. She asks if he thought she’d just roll over, but he says, not in a million years, because she’s a survivor. It’s one of the first things he learned about her. She says she’s doing what she has to do, and he asks if she’s seen Drew. She says, yes, and he asks if Drew is okay. She says, he’s okay, and Sonny says, good. Is she waiting for the lunch crowd? She says, yeah, and he says he’s got to go. She thanks him, and he says, it’s the best coffee in town. He leaves, and Sam calls Carly. She says she called the prison to see if she could take Scout to see Drew, and they said he wasn’t allowed any visitors until further notice. Carly says, why? What’s going on? Sam says, because he’s locked up in solitary confinement.

Tomorrow, Ned says he doesn’t see that changing anytime soon; TJ tells Molly, it’s their first step to having a family; Ava says, Austin killed him, didn’t he; and Curtis tells Stella that he doesn’t think he can do this.

The Real Shrew Housewives of Orange County

Shannon pitches a low-key fit to the production crew about how John is super private, and if this is aired, her relationship is over. I’m still not sure what the big deal is exactly. In Shannon’s interview, she says she made the decision to confide in Fancy Pants Heather when she was vulnerable. She was stupid to assume it would be kept between them. In Tamra’s interview, she says, Fancy Pants said Shannon and John’s relationship is sh*t, and they’re not good. She must not remember the last time she talked about Shannon’s relationship, and it blew up in her face. We flash back to that, and Shannon says she feels 100% betrayal. People who live in glass houses… Vicki says, we should shoot stones at them, but Tamra says, shouldn’t throw stones. Vicki says, that’s not it, but it’s something about stones.😐

Emily, Shane, and the kids go pumpkin picking, so I assume Halloween is around the corner. Shane corrects Emily about something or other that I wasn’t paying attention to, and in Emily’s interview, she says, one of the biggest issues between her and Shane is their parenting style. Shane likes to check her in front of the kids, and it takes her authority away. She grew up without many rules, and to her it’s monumental. She’s trying to give the kids structure and safety. Shane grew up differently, with a mom and dad. In Shane’s interview, he says he feels he can do things as well or better than Emily. He has a lot of patience, but he’s guilty of giving too much grace. He wants to be the fun dad.

Jenn and Tamra meet for frozen yogurt or something, and Tamra apologizes for being an a-hole. In Jenn’s interview, she says she’s confused. How long is she supposed to be a punching bag and forgive? Tamra says her head’s not in a good place. The gym closed and Eddie’s grandmother isn’t well. She doesn’t deal with emotions and explodes. She wants to be in a trusting place with Jenn. In Tamra’s interview, she says she hasn’t changed her mind about Jenn and Ryan, but she was an a-hole. She wants Jenn to be happy. She tells Jenn that she wants to move forward, and would love to sit down with Ryan. Shannon asked her and Eddie to go on John’s boat and then to a restaurant, and she recommended Jenn and Ryan come too. Jenn says, Tamra can throw a napkin in her face and say horrible things, but at the end of the day, she’ll always take care of their friendship. In Jenn’s interview, she says she’ll always fight for their friendship. She wants to believe Tamra means it, but she still feels guarded. Here’s where Jenn and I differ. Throw a napkin in my face and scream at me, and we’re  done. Tamra says she’s going to lay off the tequila too. She can’t control tequila. No, she can’t control herself on tequila.

Heather meets with Mark Cuban and his business partner Falon Fatemi, and in her interview, she says, years ago, Terry became enamored with Mark, and they invested in his company. She loves that he’s normal and laid back. He and Falon are co-founders of Fireside, an indirect streaming app. She’ll be able to do whatever in her slot. New eyeballs means more work and maybe readings. It might be the hole for her to integrate herself back into the acting world. It’s a business filled with rejection, and that’s a mind f***. It’s scary and daunting, but she’ll be showing she’s still alive. She tells them that she needs for this to work, and Falon says, Heather will make it work.

Gina meets Jenn for some shopping, and Gina says she thinks she’ll have her real estate license in two months. They agree the hustle is real. In Gina’s interview, she says she has more respect for Jenn now. It’s a comfort to talk with a woman in the same position. Jenn tells Gina about her truce with Tamra, but says, it’s like waiting for the ball to drop. I think she means the other shoe. Gina says, Jenn doesn’t have to tell anyone anything. Jenn’s being attacked and Gina can’t watch it happen. Maybe Jenn’s friends have to step up for her. In her interview, Gina says, Jenn has done nothing wrong to anyone but herself, and she paid for it. Jenn tells Gina about the boat/dinner invite, and says, it’s nice, but she’s worried about Eddie and Ryan. She doesn’t know Shannon and John. Gina says, from what she’s heard, things are not great, and Jenn says, Shannon told her that John was an amazing partner. Gina says she thinks it’s easier for people to talk about others, so they don’t have to talk about themselves.

I have to insert this. As I’m editing, they’re showing a RHOC from 2014, and Tamra is exactly the same. Screaming, acting like an a-hole, then apologizing.

Fancy Pants, Jenn, and Tamra take a class from boxing instructor Andre. Afterward, Heather tells them that she and Terry have a penthouse in L.A. that’s in escrow. It’s going to be their pied-a-terre. No surprise she has to explain this word to Tamra. In Fancy’s interview, she says she and Terry had been looking at apartments in L.A., and it was the most perfect ever penthouse. It’s the first step back to a career in Hollywood. Tamra says, Shannon and John seemed happy when she last saw them, and in her interview, she says she wonders if Heather forgot what she said in the past. She’s going to see if she can catch her. In her interview, Fancy Pants wonders why Tamra wants to know her opinion about Shannon and John, and why in front of Jenn? Tamra has a big mouth, and even if she had an opinion, she wouldn’t tell Tamra. Both Tamra and Fancy Pants play a round of I don’t know.

Emily and Shane go out to dinner, and in Emily’s interview, she says the reason she was attracted to Shane was because he was funny. But sometimes she wants to talk about real issues, and it can be frustrating. They’ve been married 14 years, and would probably have divorced a long time ago if he wasn’t so funny. I totally understand this. I think Shane’s funny too. She tells him that they need to have an important conversation about parenting. She doesn’t think they’re on the same page. He corrected what she said in front of the kids. He says he just meant to add to what she said, but she tells him that she felt marginalized. He says he’s sorry, and she says she wants to feel he respects her as a mother and the kids see that. He’s sincerely apologetic, and in her interview, she says she loves that Shane takes ownership of the things he’s done that are hurtful. They’ll always have issues, but that’s how you grow.

Gina meets with her realtor mentors, and says she’s getting more excited. She asks Travis to role play as a buyer, and in her interview, she says she’ll be helping people make probably the biggest purchase in their lives. They have to feel comfortable with you. She loves talking to people, and Travis will be doing the paperwork and contracts. Travis thinks she did well, and she says she feels good about it that they’re doing it together.

John asks Shannon how the dinner was with Vicki, and we flash back to that. Shannon says, they had a lot of laughs, and in her interview, she says she’s not telling John anything. They’re about to have a fun night and she doesn’t want to put a black cloud over tonight. John’s not going to be happy about this. Tamra is nervous seeing Ryan after she talked sh*t about him. Before Jenn and Ryan get there, Tamra tells John about Ryan saying he wanted to hit on her, and in Eddie’s interview, he says, the rumors about Ryan made him concerned. He cares about Jenn, and sees the trainwreck. It’s none of his business, but it is. The best person in the room is John’s dog Banks, and in Shannon’s interview, she says, the tension is rising. The last time she was on a boat with these women, it didn’t go so well. We flash back to Tamra screaming liar, liar, liar, and Jenn and Ryan arrive. Ryan is wearing one of those white jackets with black writing all over it. I guess you’d call that a vibe.

Terry tells Fancy Pants that the L.A. penthouse is in escrow, and in Heather’s interview, she says, their house wasn’t on the market, but they got a cold call from Josh Altman. We see a clip where Josh says someone he knows is interested, and he’d ask $55 million. Fancy Pants says she’s open to change. It’s like the universe is speaking, but it’s still a long road from here to packing boxes. They’ll see if it’s meant to be. Terry says, 22,000 square feet is a lot of house for four people, and Heather says, not that she’s not grateful, but it represents a job she doesn’t want anymore. In her interview, she says, it’s been amazing. They built the house. We flash back to some of that, and a producer asks if she’d like to live in a house where the staff doesn’t outnumber her family. She says, yes. She and Terry have built so much together and it’s a ton of money, but signifies their next chapter as a family and as a couple. Terry thanks Heather for the home and thanks her for the next step. It’s going to be a good one.

The boat passes Nobu, and Tamra says, the scene of the [napkin] crime. In Tamra’s interview, she says, it’s awkward. She doesn’t want to look at Ryan. He always dresses silly. Why is there leopard on his collar? I hadn’t noticed, but yep, it’s leopard. They go to a restaurant where the food looks amazing and there are deviled eggs like I’ve never seen them. Ryan brings up the infamous d*ck pic, and in her interview, Jenn says she’s talked until she’s blue in the face on Ryan’s behalf. The rest of them need to figure stuff out on their own. In Shannon’s interview, she says she never hopped on the d*ck pic train, and we hear a train whistle. She says she’s not even comfortable saying d*ck. John says he wants to use the restroom, and suggests that Shannon does too. They leave, and Tamra says, they have a chance to talk more privately. Ryan says, Eddie owes him an apology. If something was told to him, even if he found out it wasn’t true, it’s not cool. He could see how hurt Jenn was dealing with it on his behalf, and he feels betrayed.

Eddie says he was told that Ryan goes after married women, and he came to the conclusion it was the truth. Tamra says, they’ve known Jenn longer, and John and Shannon silently slip back into their seats. Eddie asks if Ryan cheated on his wife, and Ryan admits he did. Eddie says, now he’s stuck with the cheater label, and tells him that the other Heather heard him say he wanted to f*** Eddie’s wife (i.e. Tamra), but Ryan says, absolutely not. Heather told him that Tamra thought he was hot, and he said he thought Tamra was hot. End of story. Tamra asks if he’s saying Heather is lying, and he says he is. Shannon says she doesn’t know them, but she’s been around Heather and doesn’t think she’s a liar. Why she’s putting in her two cents, I’m not sure. In Jenn’s interview, she says she thinks Heather is in love with Ryan, and their relationship is none of her business. Eddie asks if Ryan cheated on Jenn, and Ryan says, a few months in, he said it was too much, and they separated. Tamra says, if he slept with someone else when they were on a break, did that mean he loved her? and he says he does love her. In her interview, Jenn says, she felt cheated on, and Ryan tells the others to see their love and make their own judgement. Tamra says, they don’t need to talk about this again, and they agree to move forward. In other words, until it comes up again. In Shannon’s interview, she says she knows how difficult it can be when other people discuss your relationship. It’s nobody’s business except the people involved. Tamra asks, what’s next? A vacation? Marriage? Ryan says, they’re definitely getting married, and in Tamra’s interview, she says she’s not holding her breath, and doubts she’d get an invite if it happened. It will be hard to find bridesmaids Ryan hasn’t f***ed. John says he felt like he shouldn’t be here, and Tamra says, cheers to clearing the air and moving forward.

This season, a lot of screaming and whooping it up; Fancy Pants and Terry get their 55 million (so is she taking the etched window with her?); Shannon screeches that someone owes her boyfriend an apology; Emily calls out Shannon for being two different people; and Fancy Pants says, just because Emily is emphatic about it, doesn’t make it true.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny says he’s been dealing with a high-level security firm lately. Has Anna heard of Pikeman? She says she has, and he doesn’t want anything to do with him. He says, too late, and she asks, how involved is he with them? Dante comes out and asks if he’s interrupting, but Sonny says, it’s always good to see him. Dante says he realizes he hasn’t seen Sonny since his boy Dex called in a dead body outside of GH.

Carly says she’s so happy Avery is having a sleepover with Donna, and she has somebody to make cookies with besides the moss bowl🎍. Avery says, because Donna’s too little to bake, and Carly says, she is. There’s knock at the door, and Avery says, mommy! She lets Ava in, and asks why she’s here. She’s spending the night with Mama Carly and Donna. Carly says, that’s a good question. What’s going on? Ava says she just wanted to see her little girl.

Gregory is sitting in Alexis’s office when she walks in, and he says, don’t tell him. She called him here because there’s a big story about to break. Or maybe a scoop she can’t trust anyone else with. Political? International? Alexis says, nothing like that, and he says, don’t keep him in suspense. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work. She says, it’s not about work, and he asks what it’s about. She says, him and his ALS. Someone else knows about it.

TJ says he’s home, and asks how Molly is holding up. She says, today’s been good for a lot of reasons, and he says, let’s hear one. She says she’ll give them to him. Her foot is feeling so much better… and this. She shows Valiant to him, and he laughs.

On the phone, the prison guard asks where the doctor is. They need him in the library now. Drew tells Cyrus to stay with him, and Cyrus sees a bright white light. He opens his eyes, and he’s in a suit, lying on a cot in a single cell. A bell clangs, and he gets up. He finds the door is locked, and says, this is wrong. He doesn’t belong here. Laura says, of course (🍷) he does, and he sees her standing outside the cell. She says, this is exactly where he deserves to be for eternity.

Dante says, Dex is literally in the wrong place at the wrong time again, and Sonny says, Dex was just throwing something away in the dumpster in the alley at GH, and sees a body. Can he imagine? A body? He’s a good citizen and made a call. Dante says, Dex told him the same thing, but normally, Sonny’s people don’t call his people, so it’s a little weird. Sonny says, they do what they can. He just hopes they find whoever did this. Dante says, they’re working on it, when Kristina joins them. She gives Sonny a kiss, and asks what he and Anna are doing together. Anna asks if Dante brought her here, and Kristina says her car broke down on the way home and she just had it fixed. She called Dante to give her a ride and he offered to buy her a drink, so here they are. Sonny asks if everything is all right, and Kristina says, all good. Sonny says he’s glad Dante was able to pick her up, and Dante says, maybe Kristina just has to figure out what roadside assistance is. Kristina says, that’s hilarious, and he says, let’s go to the bar. Kristina says, the bar is crowded. Let’s just pull up a chair – she brings a chair over to the table – and sit with dad and Anna. Dante gets a chair, and they sit at the end of the table. Kristina asks if they’ve figured out why they almost got shot.

TJ says he loves that after eleven years, he’s still learning new things about Molly. How did this reunion between her and… She says, Valiant, and he takes the stuffed horse, saying, how did this reunion between her and Valiant happen? She says her sister, and he says, Sam? She says, no, Kristina.

Gregory asks what Alexis is talking about, and she says, Tracy Quartermaine called her. He says he had dinner with Tracy tonight. It was pleasant. They didn’t fight, and got along pretty well. He wonders why Tracy would have called her about him, and she says, because when he went to get the check, she noticed that his hand froze or shook, and he wasn’t able to pick up the card from the table. He says he passed it off as a symptom of old age; too many years of writing on a blackboard. Alexis says, unfortunately, she wasn’t convinced. She’s very self-absorbed, but she’s blunt and doesn’t miss a trick. She called and specifically asked Alexis if there was anything wrong with him.

Carly says, this is a surprise. Is Ava here to pick up Avery? Avery says she wants to stay. Please. They just made cookies, and she and Donna are going to watch the movie Frozen. Ava says, of course (🍷) she can stay. She wouldn’t steal Avery away from her movie. Carly gives Avery a plate of cookies, tells her, share with Donna, and Avery runs out. Ava says she’s sorry for dropping by unannounced, but she had to see Avery and the moss bowl🎍. Carly asks, what’s going on? Does this have anything to do with Avery’s new nanny?

Drew says, Cyrus has lost consciousness, but he’s still got a pulse. How long before the doctor gets here? The guard says, they’re on partial lockdown. A fight broke out in C-block, and the doctor can’t get through. Drew tells Cyrus, it’s okay; hang in.

Cyrus says, no. This isn’t real. It can’t be. He’s hallucinating. Laura says, he’s not hallucinating. He’s dying. He says, no. He won’t accept that. He’s not done. Not even close. Inside the cell with him now, she says, he spent his whole life wanting everything his way, and using any means possible to get it, but there are some things he can’t control. No matter how determined, how powerful, or how ruthless he may be, in the end, they’re just mortals. He says, this can’t be the end – we see she’s outside again – not like this. She says, he built this prison. From his own selfish ambitions, his cruelty to other people, and his lust for power. If he didn’t want to see this as he’s passing from one world to the next, he should have made different choices. He says he tried.

After they order drinks, Kristina says she’s going to freshen up. Sonny and Anna aren’t off the hook. She wants to hear everything when she gets back. She leaves, and Dante says, she’s not going to let up. Sonny says, she’s a force of nature, and Anna says she likes that. Dante says, she’s got good instincts too. Were they talking about the shooting? Did they learn something new? Sonny says, they’re just throwing things around, and Anna says, they didn’t arrange to meet or anything. She was having a couple of glasses of wine, and his father joined her. Dante says, this is as good a time as any to talk about the fact the WSB might want Anna dead. He looks at Sonny and says, or someone else wants to kill him.

Kristina is drying her hands in the bathroom, when Trish walks in, and Kristina thanks her. Her brother and dad were exactly where Trish said they’d be on the terrace. Trish says, of course (🍷). Just doing her job. Kristina says, she’s very good at it. Would she like to be on the Board? Trish is an excellent host. Kristina’s not just saying that either. She’s in the hospitality industry. Trish says, that’s right. She works at Charlie’s. Is she still going to be able to work at Charlie’s when she opens up this youth center? That is what she’s doing, isn’t it? Opening up a youth center for LGBTQ+ kids?

Gregory asks what Alexis told Tracy, and they sit down. She says she told Tracy that as far as she knows, he’s in good health, which they both know is a lie. He says he’s sorry. He knows she’s not comfortable with the situation, but he appreciates her covering for him. She asks how much longer he thinks he’ll be able to cover this up.

Ava tells Carly that she just wanted to give her daughter a kiss goodnight. Now that she has, she’ll be on her way. Carly says, come on. Sonny calls her out of the blue and asks her to take Avery for the night, which is no problem; she loves having Avery. But the timing of this coincides with Sonny’s random decision to get Avery a new nanny, which doesn’t make any sense, because Pilar is capable of taking care of both girls. Ava says, there was an incident at the park involving Pilar, and she and Sonny decided to replace her. Carly says she knows what happened at the park. Sonny told her. Pilar’s a wreck about it. She feels awful for taking her eyes off Avery. Ava just looks at her, and Carly says, Avery told her about her new nanny, Betty. Avery says she’s really nice. Ava says, she is, and Carly says, really? Because Josslyn ran into her at the pool and she doesn’t agree. So who’s telling the truth?

The guard asks how Cyrus is doing, and Drew says he can’t get a pulse. He’s going to start CPR. Again, I’m no medical professional, but shouldn’t he have done this by now? He starts to pump on Cyrus’s chest, and tells the guard that they need a defibrillator.

Cyrus says he tried to be better for Laura, and she says, you know how you used to quote those Bible verses? They contained so much wisdom. Wisdom about what really matters in life. Does he remember the one, the greatest of these is love? He says, of course (🍷). First Corinthians, 13:13. Inside with him again, she says, how many times did he quote that? and he says, a lot. Back outside, she asks if he understood it. Really understood it. Because he’s been given so many opportunities to love and be loved, and he threw them all away. He says, the one he regrets throwing away the most is with her. He wanted to love her.

Ava tells Carly that she can’t imagine why Josslyn doesn’t like Betty. Avery thinks she’s great. Carly asks if Ava does. Does she like Betty? Ava just looks at her, and Carly says, yeah. When she saw Ava in Sonny’s office, she seemed really tense, and she doesn’t seem any more relaxed now. Ava says, it’s really none of her business, but Carly says, Sonny made it her business when he called her. What’s intriguing to her is, Ava and Sonny didn’t appear to be fighting, and that says a lot. Ava tells Carly that if she has something to say, say it, and Carly says, Ava and Sonny aren’t fighting. Ava brought in a new nanny no one likes, and instead of Avery spending the night with the new nanny or Ava, Sonny wants her to stay with Carly. You know what that tells her? That Ava’s up to her old tricks.

Anna says, Dante’s father came up with an interesting theory, and Dante says, let’s hear it. Anna says, the releasing of all of her WSB files, along with the information that she was a double agent, could be more than just a sick, posthumous revenge tactic of Victor’s. Dante says, they have to figure out what more there is to it. Victor was hellbent on revenge. He was director of the WSB for a lot of years, and he had access to Anna’s file, which he obviously could have read. Sonny says, the timing seems too convenient, and Dante asks, how so? Sonny says, somebody in the WSB pool released all that information to make her look bad. They want her out. She’s a good agent, and they don’t want her looking around. Dante says, that explains a lot.

Kristina tells Trish, yes. She’s starting up an LGBTQIA+ youth center here in Port Charles. The idea is to provide temporary housing. Why does she ask? Trish says, Nina was telling her about it. She brags about Kristina all the time. She thinks the work Kristina is doing is amazing. Kristina says she didn’t know Nina felt that way, and Trish says, for what it’s worth (🍷), Nina and her dad are really proud of her, and she thinks what Kristina is doing is great. All the lives she’s going to touch and save… Kristina says she doesn’t know about saving lives, but she’s hoping to create a safe space where people can just be themselves. They don’t have to worry about being bullied or judged or worse. Trish says she wishes a place had existed like that for her brother. His name is Teddy, and when he was fifteen years old, their parents threw him out of the house. Kristina says, that’s terrible. Does Trish mind if she asks what happened? Trish says, he was guilty of being himself. Then one day, their parents caught him fooling around with a boy, and their dad went ballistic. He said, Teddy, no son of mine is gonna be gay (I doubt that’s the word he would have used, but this is daytime), and they forced him out of the house. Kristina says, at fifteen; that’s terrible. Does she know where he ended up going? Trish says, he took off for the city, and they never heard from him again. Last she heard, he was living on the streets. She doesn’t know if he’s safe or if he even has money for food. This is why it’s incredible that Kristina’s opening up this center. It’s so important. Kristina thanks her, and Trish says she’s got to get back to work. She thanks Kristina for all the Teddys of the world, and it personally means so much to her. So good luck to her, and don’t forget to invite her to the opening. Kristina says, she’s got it, and Trish leaves.

Molly says she knows Kristina isn’t TJ’s favorite person right now, but she really seems to be trying. It was nice of Kristina to come over and check on her. TJ says he can tell the visit brightened Molly’s day, and she says, it did. It was really nice to just hang out together again. He wonders if Kristina asked about being their surrogate, and she says, not a word. They talked about old times together and the youth center she’s starting. He says, but Molly was thinking it, wasn’t she? and she says she has to admit, she’s been thinking about a lot of different things, and she wants to talk them all out with him. Because whatever happens next, they have to be on the same page.

Drew continues chest compression, and tells Cyrus that he has to fight. On the phone, the guard says, they have to get lockdown lifted and get the doctor through. They need a defibrillator in the library… If you don’t get it down here, this man will die!

Cyrus says he was so careful. He made sure to leave Laura breadcrumbs that he knew she was smart enough to follow, and they all led straight to him and the realization that he was her brother. She says, him and Martin, and he says, and Martin. He was always the good son, but he had his faults… They all do, but Marty never made the big mistakes, the life-altering ones that he and Laura did. She sits on the cot and says she definitely made her share of mistakes. He says, yes, and the more he dug around in her history, the more he felt like they were kindred souls. They’re so much alike, and if she could just recognize that, maybe he wouldn’t feel so alone anymore. He’d have someone to confide in. Someone who cared about him, and in return, he’d have someone to take care of, his little sister. She smiles and says, he could have just told her that she was his sister. Instead, he manipulated her because he wanted to control the situation, but those manipulations led to his ruin. And eventually, they led him to hold her hostage. He says, but he would never have hurt her, and she says, it’s just the two of them now. There’s no need to lie here. There’s no point anymore. He created all of this with his pride, with his anger, with his hurt feelings. Isn’t that what’s really at the bottom of this? She hugs him, and says, all of that pain, all of those hurt feelings. He starts to cry, and she says, because hurt people lash out, and hurt other people. She steps away and is outside again, and says, but nothing like he’s capable of. He says, the night he held her hostage, there was a moment where he thought he was going to die, and he was going to take her with him so he didn’t have to be alone… But then he looked at her and couldn’t do it. He knew the police were out there, and gave them the opening, and they stopped him. He did it for her.

Alexis says, Gregory told her weeks ago what might happen to him – the cramping, the slurred speech, the imbalance. She’s already seen evidence of those things. He says he knows she has, and she says, no matter how hard he tries to cover this up, his body is starting to betray him. How much longer does he think he can hide this?

Carly says she’s right, isn’t she? Ava’s in trouble, and Sonny’s helping for Avery’s sake. Ava asks how far Carly is going to push this, and Carly says, Ava came by just to say goodnight. Is Ava going to tell her that’s all this is? Ava says, if the only way to end this interrogation is to take Avery home, then she’ll go get her daughter. Ava heads for the kitchen door, and Carly says, if Ava does that, she’ll tell Sonny that she came by and grabbed Avery. The girls will be disappointed, but hell, they’ve seen Frozen a thousand times. Go ahead. Take Avery.

Dante says, the only thing they know for sure is the gun that was used should have been locked up in a WSB facility in Berlin, and Anna says, and the only people with access to it would be inside the agency. Dante says, there they have it then. It’s got to be an inside job. Whoever it is knew Victor had her followed. Maybe they gave the files to him. Sonny says, they knew once it was released, that Anna would be disgraced and arrested. She says, they got one part right. She was certainly disgraced. Dante says, but she wasn’t arrested. She got in front of it, and resigned from the WSB. She says she was forced to, and he says, be that as it may, she’s walking around free. She says she doesn’t know if looking over your shoulder every five minutes is free, and Dante says, that explains the shot at her. Whoever it is thinks she’s a threat. They either took the shot themselves, or had someone else do it. Kristina comes back, and says, do what themselves? Take a shot at Anna?

Kristina tells TJ to be honest. How is he feeling about all this? Does he really want to be a father? He says, more than anything, and she says, does he want the child to have his DNA? He takes her hands, and says he’d love their child no matter what, and he knows they’ll make the best parents a kid ever had, regardless of their DNA. She says she knows he’d love their child no matter what, but he didn’t answer her question. Does he want their child to have his DNA? He says, would that be his preference to have their child be biologically his? Yes, he’d like that. She asks how soon down the road he’s thinking. A year? Two? Three? He says he’s ready now, and she says she is too. To all of it. She wants a baby, she wants him to be the biological father, and the sooner the better. They kiss, and she says, which means, they need to find a surrogate. He says, which leads to the next question. Will it be Kristina?

Gregory says, Alexis is right. His symptoms have gotten more frequent and they’re getting more severe, which makes whatever time he has left that much more precious before Chase and Finn find out he has ALS. She says, he has one son that’s a doctor and one son that’s a detective. How long does he think it’s going to be before they figure it out? He says, these might be his last days, even weeks, before they notice, and they have to start being afraid of him. She says, they’re not going to be afraid of him; they’re going to love and support him. Gregory says, once they know, all they’re going to see is his disease. Right now, they look at him and still see their dad, not someone whose terrible decline is looming on the horizon and wondering if his end is near. She says, if it makes him feel any better, for what it’s worth (🍷), none of them really know how much time they’ve got left. He says, she’s right, but he wants to enjoy what little time he has left without them worrying about it getting cut short, and his ending will be terrible. So he just wants to stop and savor these good times while he still can, while he’s still able to. Is that so wrong?

Dante says, they’re just speculating, and Sonny asks if he can talk to Kristina for a second. They step away, and Dante asks Anna, what’s going on? Something tells him that if he hadn’t stopped by, she wasn’t going to call and fill him in. She says, fill him in on what? Speculation? He asks if they weren’t supposed to be working together, and she says, when there’s something to work on. He says he thought she wanted to be bait and try to draw out the shooter, and she says she thinks she’s reconsidered. She’s not on a mission. She’s not undercover. She doesn’t have a badge. She’s a private citizen, and she happens to be one who can protect herself. He asks if she’s sure about that. What happens if his old man’s theory turns out to be right, and it is someone inside the WSB? Someone who wants her out of the way.

Inside, Sonny says he has a problem with Kristina driving a car that’s not reliable, but she says, it’s fine. It’s in the shop; it’s getting fixed. He says he’s going to buy her a new car, so she doesn’t have to worry about it breaking down, but she says, he’s not. He’s already done enough for her as it is. He’s getting the youth center up and running, and that’s way more important to her than a new car is. So no. She’s not letting him buy her one.

Inside the cell, Laura says, Cyrus let the police shoot him for her? and he says he didn’t want anything to happen to her. He needed to protect her from him. She looks startled, and he says, she doesn’t believe him, does she? She says she does believe him. He made a very brave choice that night to let both of them live on. She thanks him for that. And in doing so, he gave them both the opportunity to do better. He laughs and says, she doesn’t need to do better, but she says, of course (🍷) she does. She was angry with him and let her anger blind her at times. She was quick to judge him and turned her back on him, when she should have been reaching out to him and trying to help him. So that leaves a lot of room for her to do better. He says, but she couldn’t have redeemed him. That doesn’t fall on her shoulders. She says she knows that now, because in the end, they all have to save themselves. But does he want to? Outside again, she says, because he’s the only one keeping him locked in here. She walks away, and he begs her not to go. He pushes on the door, and it opens.

Cyrus opens his eyes, and begins to breath. Drew says, there he is. Come on. Hang in there. The doctor’s on his way. Cyrus grabs Drew’s wrist, and Drew says, all right.

Gregory says, it wasn’t fair of him to put Alexis in a position to keep his secret, but she says, it wasn’t fair of her to put him in a position to tell her his secret when he wasn’t ready. It’s his diagnosis. He tells someone when he’s damn well ready. He says he appreciates that, and he intends to tell Chase and Finn, he promises. But in the meantime, he’s going to enjoy every minute he has left living a normal life. He’s grateful for her confidence and their friendship. She smiles.

TJ helps put Molly’s foot up on the coffee table, and she says she’s been thinking about this a lot, and she talked it through with her mom. She doesn’t want to ask Kristina to carry their child. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, yes. Although she’s certain Kristina would do it for them, she doesn’t think Kristina fully understands the demands or the commitment it would mean for her. He says he’s honestly relieved. Kristina doesn’t need the added weight of being their surrogate while she’s trying to get the youth center started. He thinks it will be better for all of them if they register with a service. Work out the legal and monetary arrangements, and start interviewing candidates that actually know what to expect. She asks how he knows so much about this, and he says he started doing some research just in case they ended up going this route. She asks why he didn’t tell her, and he says he didn’t want to pressure her with this right away. She says she doesn’t feel pressure at all. They both want this, and that means they feel hopeful. She snuggles on his shoulder, and he says, so we’re having a baby, and she says, yes. She asks if Valiant heard that; they’re having a baby.

Kristina asks if Sonny knew that Nina was bragging about her, but he says, no, but it doesn’t surprise him. Nina is proud of her. She says, Nina told Trish about her starting up the Corinthos-Davis House, and he says, now Nina can see for herself that Kristina is going to change the world. Kristina says she kind of thinks she’s starting to see that for herself too. Admittedly, she still has her doubts… He says, everyone has doubts. Does she know what you do with doubts? You just move through it. She hugs him.

Anna tells Dante, if Sonny’s right, and she’s being targeted by someone inside the Bureau, the bodyguards aren’t going to do her any good. He asks why she says that. Because no one can beat the big bad WSB? She says, because they’ll never come at her the same way twice. Sonny comes back with Kristina, and says he’s going to take her home. He thanks Dante for dropping her by, and says goodbye to Anna. They leave, and Anna tells Dante, if she’s being targeted, the shooting at the MetroCourt pool was a one-off. If it had worked, fine; she’d be dead. But it didn’t work. And if her enemy is indeed inside the Bureau, then they’re not going to want to call attention to themselves, and they’re going to go underground and wait months, a year maybe, before they try again. Does he really want to be glued to her side for that amount of time? He says, yeah, and she says, it’s going to play havoc with his job, not to mention his personal life… He says, she’s driving this point home pretty good; he thinks he gets it. She says, here’s another point. As she mentioned, they won’t use the same method twice. The Bureaus got a lot of dirty tricks up their sleeve, and it’s impossible to safeguard against all of them. Even if someone was glued to her side 24/7, which they’ve agreed he won’t be. He says, all right. He’ll stand down, but if something changes, she has to let him know. She says, he’ll be her first call. He has her word.

Carly says she thinks Sonny wants Avery here because she’s safe, and so does Ava. Avery comes in and says, they paused the movie. She and Donna need more cookies, and Carly says, all right, taking the empty plate. Ava says, while Mama Carly is getting the cookies, why doesn’t Avery give her the biggest hug ever? Avery says, ever? and hugs Ava. Ava says she’s going to take it home and keep it all night. She loves Avery so much. Avery says she loves Ava too, and Ava says she’d do anything for Avery. Carly gives Avery the cookies, saying, no more. Avery runs off, and Carly says, whatever Ava and Sonny are up to, she hopes they know what they’re doing. Ava thanks her, and leaves, giving a nod to the moss bowl🎍 as she passes.

Cyrus is receiving oxygen on a stretcher, and a paramedic says he called ahead to GH. They’re expecting them. Let’s go. They take Cyrus out, and the guard says, that man’s alive because of Drew. Drew says, not just because of him. The guard could have refused to let Drew help him. He had a big part in that too. The guard’s phone rings, and he says, the paramedics just took him to GH… Got it. Drew is about to leave, and the guard asks where he thinks he’s going. Drew asks what he means, and the guard says, he was busted for fighting. He’s taking Drew to solitary. Drew says, is he kidding? but the guard hustles him out.

Tomorrow, Brook says she’s not willing to risk it for Tracy; Chase wants to ask Austin a few questions about Gordon; Sonny says he came here to make someone an offer they can’t refuse (he’s required to say that at least once a year); and Cyrus needs someone to give all his money away.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

On the phone, Sonny says he needs them to find out everything they can on a Gordon Stevens. He did a little time in Pentenville. He took two bullets outside of GH, and Sonny wants to find out who’s responsible. He goes to the MetroCourt rooftop seating and finds Anna. He asks if this seat is taken, and she says, it is now. He sits across from her, and says he’s glad he found her. He was a worried about her the last time he saw her. She seemed a bit off. She says she got tired of hiding out at home. She got tired of eating cereal for dinner. She’s not very good in the kitchen, and with Valentin gone, it’s possible she could starve. Apparently, she’s never heard of Door Dash. Sonny says he’s surprised Valentin hasn’t come home from his trip, especially with what’s going on with her, but she says she’s fine on her own. She doesn’t need Valentin to protect her. He says, Anna might not need Valentin, but does Valentin know the WSB is trying to kill her?

Gregory gets in the elevator at the MetroCourt, and Tracy yells for him to hold it. He does, and she gets in. He says, you’re welcome.

Alexis lets herself into Molly’s apartment, and asks, how’s the patient? Molly says, she’s making way too much of this. She’s more embarrassed than she is hurt. Alexis tells her, that boot says otherwise. Alexis is her mommy, so let Alexis take care of her, for no other reason than to make Alexis feel better. Molly says she just wishes she could go back to work, but Alexis says, she needs to take a minute. Does she need anything? Molly says she’s good. Sam came by and made sure the fridge was full; Krissy offered to shop for her. Alexis says, good. It’s good of the girls to bring her groceries. Molly says, Krissy didn’t exactly bring her food. She came with something much better. Molly shows her Valiant, and Alexis takes him, saying, aww.

Michael says, Kristina wants to know why he’s so hard on Nina, but she tells him, that’s not what she said. She asked why he’s being such a bastard to her. He says, let him ask her a question. Why is she always so damn nice to Nina? She says she knows their family was hurt by what happened between dad and Nina, but they’re engaged. They’re a part of their family now, so he has to get over it.

Sitting in the prison library, Cyrus reads out loud, peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you. Not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled. Better let it be afraid… Book slams the Bible shut, and Cyrus says, Lord, let me be a channel of Your peace. Book grabs him and lifts him out of his chair, and slams him up against the wall. He says, there’s no one to help you, old man. No warden, no guards. He’s all alone. There’s no one to help him now. Drew says, but he can. Get the hell away from him. Um… I feel like I missed something with Cyrus becoming this weaker character.

Meeting for drinks, Felicia asks if things are hectic at Deception, and Lucy says, that’s an understatement. She feels like she’s swamped. They’re all scrambling to do massive damage control. Felicia says she feels terrible for poor Sasha, and Cody. She’s just glad he’s going to be okay. It could have been a lot worse. Lucy says, she’s right. They just don’t know what happened. It was so sudden. Sasha’s life was on track. She was doing fine. She was happy. She was looking forward to doing the interview. Then she just lost it – boom. Sasha’s meltdown could have tanked Deception completely. It sent their stock tumbling, but thankfully, they have the Deceptor. The sales are incredible, and she thinks it’s going to save the company. Felicia says, at least that’s good news, and Lucy says, it should be. Felicia says, it’s not, and Lucy says, it’s just… she can’t help it. She discusses and brings up the Deceptor, and all she can think about is Martin was the inspiration for her to create it. Felicia says, and the problem with that would be? and Lucy says she can’t stop thinking about how he gets $50,000 in alimony a month from ex-wife number three. Why didn’t he tell her that? Why keep that a secret? And what else could he be hiding from her?

Tracy says, he’s welcome for what exactly? and Gregory says he held the door for her. The polite response would be, thank you. She says, I’m so sorry, Emily Post. She didn’t realize he expected to be thanked for a basic courtesy. Her phone rings, and he says, so she is familiar with the concept of basic courtesy. Tracy answers, and tells Monica that she’s in the elevator on her way to the restaurant. Although she wishes she’d taken the stairs… She’s canceling? Could Monica have given her a warning?… It is always a medical emergency with her… No, she wasn’t aware Monica was a doctor. She’ll see Monica at home. The door opens, and Gregory says, ladies first. She thanks him, and gets out.

Anna tells Sonny that she doesn’t want to worry Valentin at all. He has his hands full with Laura and Doc and whatever he’s doing. Besides, she doesn’t believe for one second that the Bureau has a hit out on her. Sonny asks if she’s sure about that, because they both know the gun was traced back to the WSB. Anna says, the easiest explanation is that the gun was stolen and sold on the black market. He says, and the shooter? and she says she doesn’t know. A rogue agent? At worst, maybe someone whose family was hurt by her actions. It’s a long time ago, but maybe they want payback. He asks if she’s still planning on using herself as bait to draw them out.

Alexis asks Molly, where on earth did Kristina find Valiant? Where was he hiding? Molly says, Kristina was going through stuff in Alexis’s attic, looking for stuff to sell at the fundraiser. She opened a box, and guess who was sitting there? Alexis says, Kristina used to brush his tail and braid it every night. Then she’d sleep with him in the crook of her neck, and Alexis had to put out carrots in case he got hungry in the middle of the night. Molly says she forgot about the carrots, and Alexis says, Valiant was a very special pony, and Valiant was the only one who could sleep on the bed, where the other stuffed animals were relegated to the floor. Because Molly believed that Valiant was special and needed a place of prominence. Molly asks if she really used that word, and Alexis says, of course (🍷) she did. She had a very big vocabulary at six; she still does. This pony went with her into every important moment of her life when she was little. Molly doesn’t know this, but Alexis actually heard her having a conversation with Valiant when she was getting ready for junior prom. She actually took Valiant with her when she took her SATs. Alexis didn’t know you could do that, but Kristina did. It was a second ago that Kristina was a little girl and had a stuffed pony, and now she’s Alexis’s big girl. She’s practicing law. Kristina says she may be all grown up, but she still needs her mom.

Michael says he doesn’t want to get into this with Kristina. Nina has caused enough stress in his life. The last thing he wants to do is fight about Nina with her. Kristina says, good. She’s not looking for a fight. She’s just offering Michael a simple solution. He asks if she’s giving him advice, and she says she is. He can be Mr. Big Shot Business Guy here, but they all know she has a sixth sense when it comes to people. He asks what her sixth sense is telling her, and she says, that he should drop this grudge and just give Nina a chance. He says, that’s just it. He’s given Nina chance after chance, and she keeps crossing the line. Kristina says, he shouldn’t even be drawing a line. Make peace. If not for his sake, do it for Willow. He says, if he just does what she’s telling him, everybody will be happy, and she says, yeah, basically. He says, it’s not about him. This is about Willow. When it comes to Nina, whatever Willow decides, he’ll support. She says, wow. How does he do that? He has to teach her. He says, teach her what?

Book says, this has nothing to do with Drew. So why doesn’t he just walk away and pretend he didn’t see anything? Drew says he can’t do that, and Book says, if he gets involved, he’ll pay the price. Is this codger really worth it to him? I wonder who uses words like codger, and Cyrus says, he’s making a mistake, but Book says, Cyrus is the one making a mistake. He thinks he has power here? That everyone’s still in his pocket? He doesn’t have any more allies; those days are gone. Cyrus starts looking uncomfortable and rubbing his chest, and Drew says, he told Book to leave him alone. Book says he’s giving Drew one more chance to get the hell out of here and forget he saw this. Cyrus starts to breath heavily, and Drew says he really doesn’t want any trouble here. Book tells Cyrus, you’re getting weak, old man. (What is Cyrus? Like 50?) We all see it. Drew decks Book, who falls to the floor. Cyrus crouches down, clutching his chest.

Michael asks what skill Kristina wants him to teach her, and more important, why? She says, he never actually committed to giving Nina a second chance, and he didn’t even say he’d try to get along with her. What he did say was he would leave it up to Willow. He says he still doesn’t follow because he’s stupid, and she says, it’s a classic move out of the Michael Corinthos playbook. Keep everything close to the vest, don’t give anything away, always keep your options open. It’s very admirable. Meanwhile, she’s over here like an open book. Leaping before she looks, impulsive. It doesn’t always bode well for her professionally or personally. He says, she’s giving him too much credit. Yes, he’s very analytical and thinks about everything, but she’s open, honest, and a free spirit. She goes where her heart tells her to go, and that’s not always a bad thing. Plus, she genuinely wants to help people. He admires her for that. She thanks him, and says she’s glad he sees them as good qualities, because honestly, it doesn’t always get the job done.

Anna tells Sonny that she’s got a few ideas, but it will take more investigating before she puts a plan in motion. Sonny says, let him know if she needs help. He doesn’t like that she’s alone in that house when there are threats coming. She says she really appreciates Sonny looking out for her, but can he call his watchdog off? She sees him parked outside her house, and she doesn’t need that kind of protection. She just doesn’t want it. He says he gets it. She wants him to stay out of it. She says, he has enough on his plate. He doesn’t need to add her to his long list of problems. He says he’s got a lot going on, but he always has time for her.

Molly says, when Alexis talks about memories from when she was little, now it’s bittersweet. It’s something she might never get to experience. Will she ever get to make memories like that with a child of her own someday? It’s something she really wants. Alexis asks if TJ feels the same way, and Molly says, he does. Alexis asks if they’ve talked about options, and Kristina says, when they committed to each other, they always thought kids were something in the future. They wanted to establish their careers first, but deep down, she wanted to be a mom. They were both so disappointed when they found out she wasn’t pregnant. For a few short hours before she took the home pregnancy test, they were just excited about the thought of being parents. Then they got hit with the endometriosis news, and she couldn’t accept that she couldn’t have a baby. It leaves them with a lot to think about. Alexis says she’s certain Molly and TJ will make the right decision, because it’s certainly their decision to make. Molly says, they definitely want a baby, but how do they make that happen?

The hostess says, table for two? and Tracy says, no, but Gregory says, yes. Come on. Live a little. Her dinner date canceled. Tracy says, it wasn’t a date; it was her former sister-in-law. He says, just join him for dinner. Please. She says, well, since he said please… Table for two. The hostess says, right this way. She’ll send their waitress right over. Gregory holds Tracy’s chair for her, and she says, thank you, kind sir. I love courtesy, but I have to admit, chair holding makes me nervous. I’m always afraid I’ll end up just half on the chair or on the floor. He says, she’s welcome. See? They’re making progress. She asks if this is going to be a running theme. He does his best Cary Grant, holding elevators and pulling out chairs, and she’s supposed to say thank you every time? What’s next? Throwing his jacket over a puddle? He asks if that would be so bad, and she says, torture. They open their menus.

Drew asks if Book has allies or he’s working on his own, and bent over and panting, Cyrus says, allies. Drew asks, how many? And Cyrus says something indecipherable. Drew says, they have to get him out of here. Can he walk? Cyrus shakes his head, and Drew says, they’re going to get him to the infirmary. Book comes to and gets up. He takes a shiv out of his sock, and runs toward Drew.

Molly says, their first choice was IVF, and Alexis says, understandable. IVF is very common now. Molly says, exactly. She thought it was simple. Use her eggs and TJ sperm. An embryo would be carried by a gestational surrogate. Now they know that can’t happen because her eggs aren’t viable. So the next option would be using someone else’s eggs, and that could be from the donor or the surrogate. Alexis says, she has a lot to process, and Molly says she knows. She just can’t help but think using Kristina might be the best solution.

Michael and Kristina sit down, and Michael asks, what job needs to get done? Is this about the foundation she’s starting? She says, the shelter, yeah. She’s setting up a shelter for LGBTQIA+ teens that are at risk. Dad found the site and set up all the funding. He says, that’s good, right? and she says, it’s amazing. She has to get everything off the ground; contractors and architects, and securing building permits. She has to learn all these new tax codes for non-profit. It’s a lot, and she’s just realizing how in over her head she is. He asks how he can help, and she says she thought he’d never ask.

Sonny says he hates what that bastard Victor did to Anna. Exposing her past is cruel. She says, the Cassadines can be a cruel bunch sometimes, and he says, but there is a collateral to this. They’re not on opposite sides. They don’t have to pretend they’re not friends. She says she never pretended, and they laugh. He says, so all this time she’s been judging him and digging him for his criminal activity, she’s meant it? and she says, absolutely. But if she’s being honest, she has to admit, even when she was doing her duty to uphold the law and bring him to justice, there was part of her that really admired how he was able to… He says, get away with it, and she says, okay, and laughs.

Felicia tells Lucy not to jump to conclusions. They don’t know for sure that those payments are alimony. Lucy says, come on. You don’t have to be a lawyer to figure it out. She gets up and says, your honor, exhibit A; Mr. Grey is receiving $50,000 every single month from a company in Pine Valley called Maquillage. That said company is owned by his horrible, greedy ex-wife number three. She looks at Felicia, and Felicia says, what? Lucy says, it just occurred to her. They only have Marty’s word that ex-wife number three is so horrible and greedy. She’s the one that’s shelling out all that alimony. What if it’s Marty? What if he’s the one who’s so greedy? Felicia says she doesn’t think… and Lucy says, wait a second. That’s the reason he couldn’t marry her. Because he would lose all that money. She digs in her bag, and Felicia asks what she’s looking for. Lucy says she’s looking for any gummi, even if it’s stale, and Felicia says she thought Lucy told her that wasn’t working for her. Martin walks in, and says, lookee here. Two of his favorite ladies. It must be his lucky night. Can he join them?

Book rushes Drew, as Cyrus remains doubled over and breathing heavily. Drew and Book circle each other, and Drew gives Book a kick, sending him flying into the shelves. Book picks up a book (ha-ha), and tries to hit Drew with it, but Drew dodges it and knocks Book down. He picks Book back up, and is punching the hell out of him, when the guards walk in. Two of them grab Drew and Book, and the third says, solitary for the both of them. Cyrus slides to the floor.

Anna says, there was always a part of her that admired Sonny’s ability to compartmentalize. On the one hand, he’s a loving father, going to dance recitals, soccer matches, whatever. On the other hand, he’s head of a criminal enterprise. It’s an interesting dichotomy, doesn’t he think? The doting father, then the commitment to running his business. He says, it’s a good thing, right? and she laughs, saying, yeah. It’s a good thing. But as an agent, she didn’t have the luxury of admiring the person she was trying to take down, because then it’s her personal feelings affecting her work. It compromises the whole situation. And if she’s being honest, that’s exactly what happened early on in her career, and she was determined that wasn’t going to happen with him. Now her reputation is kind of tarnished. She can say with 100% certainty, she never turned a blind eye to him or his organization. He says, that’s for damn sure. When she was Police commissioner, she was all over him, and he’s sure she was like that with any agent she was up against. She says, yes, she was, and he looks down. She asks if she hurt his feelings, but he says, no… What if it wasn’t Victor?

Kristina says, all foundations have a Board of Directors. She wants Michael to join. He says, who else is on the Board? and she says, no one, yet, but that’s only because he’s her first and only choice. She knows how busy he is here, but not just here; he has a lot going on everywhere. She knows he’s covering for Drew while he’s away, and at home, he has things going on with Willow and the kids. The last thing she wants to do is add to that, but he’s the smartest person she knows. Please? What does he say?

Gregory tells Tracy that his friend was in a bind and asked him to watch his dog. He said Astro wouldn’t be a problem. He just didn’t like to be left alone, so of course (🍷), he had to take Astro to class with him. So he’s in the middle of this passionate lecture about freedom of the press, and he hears tittering in the class. He’s a little offended, so he stops and says, does anybody have any questions? One student raises his hand and says, Professor, did you forget to walk your dog this morning? That’s when he realized Astro was relieving himself in the middle of the classroom. Tracy laughs, and he says, the moral of the story is don’t ever bring a pet to class. They will upstage you every time. She says, that was surprisingly charming, and he says, thank you… I think.

Molly says she must sound like a hypocrite after her reaction when Kristina first brought up the idea, but Alexis says, absolutely not. Her reaction was completely appropriate. Kristina’s timing, however, was not. There’s a lot to weigh with Kristina’s offer. Molly says she went ballistic when she overheard Kristina talking about being the egg donor and surrogate, but the more she thinks about it, it could be a good option. She and Krissy share DNA, so the baby would technically be a part of her. And it’s not like they’re using some stranger who could have a questionable lifestyle. They know Kristina’s medical history and her social habits. That’s a good thing, right? Alexis says, Molly sounds like she’s trying to talk herself into it. Is she? Molly says, she’s pointing out that Kristina seems to check all the boxes, which means she could be the perfect choice to carry their baby. What does Alexis think?

Lucy says, funny. She was just singing Martin’s praises. She was telling Felicia that the sales for The Deceptor are skyrocketing, thank goodness, and she owes it all to him because he was the inspiration for it. Martin says, they all know The Deceptor is 100% Lucy’s baby. There’s no reason to bring him into it. Lucy looks at Felicia, and Martin asks how their trip went. Felicia says, it was a fun getaway, and he asks where they went. Felicia says, they went to the spa… and Lucy says, in Llanview. Who knew? It was just beautiful. Felicia says, it was a real girls trip; wine, facials, and spa treatments. It’s getting late. She needs to check in with Mac and relieve him of his babysitting duties. A grandmother’s work is never done. She jets, and Martin asks Lucy if Felicia is okay.

A guard examines Cyrus, and Drew says he thinks Cyrus is having a heart attack. Please just get him out of here. The guard tells him to shut up and tells the others to take Drew and Book out of here. Book is hauled out, but Drew says he was in the military. Please. Just let him help Cyrus. The guard says, fine. Let him go. Drew runs to Cyrus and starts checking him out like he knows what he’s doing.

Tracy tells the waitress, separate checks, but Gregory says he’s got it. Tracy says she can pay for herself, and he says he’s not questioning her finances, but he insisted she join him, so his treat. She says, he’s definitely more entertaining than her sister-in-law, and he says, that’s not exactly a stellar review, but he’ll take it. Next time, she can grab the check. She says, next time? Who says there will be a next time? He just smiles.

Cyrus is on his back on the floor, and Drew blots his face with water. He tells Cyrus, try to relax. Take deep breaths. It’s very important. Take deep breaths in through his nose and out through his mouth. He tells the guards that they have to call the infirmary again, and the main guard tells the other to find out what’s taking so long. Drew tells Cyrus, hang in there. You got this.

Alexis says, it’s such a personal decision for Molly; she doesn’t want to influence her. Molly asks if Alexis can at least help her weigh the options. Try and sit back and talk to her as a former lawyer, not her mother. Alexis says, on the positive side, Kristina is in good health and she’s at a good age, but there are so many other things to consider. She knows Molly wants this to be the perfect solution because Kristina is her sister and she loves her, and because the baby would share her DNA; but on the minus side, most surrogates don’t have a relationship with the baby after it’s born, and Kristina would have a relationship with the baby forever. Molly says, but she already knows Kristina is an amazing aunt, and she’d be the same for… and Alexis says, that’s just it. She wouldn’t really be the baby’s aunt. She would be the baby’s biological mother, and that just buys Molly a whole lot of really complex issues that could come down the line. She just wants Molly to think about it and be prepared. Molly asks if she’s saying Kristina wouldn’t accept the role of aunt, and she’d want to be more, but Alexis says she doesn’t know that. Molly doesn’t know that. Kristina doesn’t know that. She’s never been pregnant before, and nobody knows if she’d be able to detach or not. Molly says, Alexis is freaking her out, but Alexis says she’s not trying to. She’s just trying to make Molly think. This is a huge commitment for Kristina. Molly says she realizes that, but she’s not sure Kristina does.

Michael says he’d be honored to have a seat on the Board, and Kristina thanks him, hugging him. She says she knew she could count on him, and he says he knows she’s going to make this youth center a huge success. She says she hopes so. She wishes she had that confidence. She feels like with her running things, it’s only going to last six months. He says, she has to believe in herself, and she tells him, funny he should say that. Molly was literally saying that to her the other day. She thinks her big fear is that she’s going to make huge mess out of everything – again – and then dad’s going to have to clean up after her. And mom is going to be totally disappointed with her again. And ultimately, she’ll prove everyone right, that she can’t do anything and follow through with something. He tells her to stop being so hard on herself, and she says, dad really gave her a great head start with this foundation. She just knows if she doesn’t succeed, she’s going to let him down. He says he can’t believe he’s saying this, but she underestimates dad.

Sonny says, all this information about Anna being a double agent that got to the press. He’s sure the WSB sealed the records. Why expose her now? She says, the timing isn’t a coincidence. Even in death, Victor is the gift that keeps on giving. It all just came out when his will was being read. The lawyer played this taped message from Victor, saying he was leaving her with the truth. She wasn’t sure what that meant, then less than an hour later, she was here, remember? And she was arrested by Agent Hursley. Then the whole media blitz started. Her face was plastered on every newspaper: Anna Devane, Double Agent. He says, so Cassadine exposing her past was all about payback? His final act of revenge? She says she thinks so. What else could it be?

Michael tells Kristina, despite his feelings about dad, he can be objective. He’s always been a savvy businessman. He wouldn’t invest time and money in Kristina if he thought she’d fail. If she needs Sonny’s guidance, just reach out to him. He’ll surround her with professionals who know how to get the job done. She says, that’s what she thought too, but once they got the funding set up, he completely backed off. Michael says, probably because he doesn’t want to overstep and make it seem like he’s keeping tabs on her. Dad is her biggest fan, and he’ll give her all the tools she needs to succeed. All she has to do is reach out to him. She says, it’s annoying how right he is sometimes. Michael’s got to admit, he still loves dad. Otherwise, Michael wouldn’t have this much faith in him. Michael says she should get out of here, and hugs her. Her new Board member needs to get to work. She thanks him and leaves.

Anna says, clearly someone else from the WSB could have reason to leak those confidential files, and Sonny says, she was a damn good agent. He’s sure she was a threat to somebody in the organization who thought they could shut her out. She says, could be. Her ego would really like to believe that’s true, but she has no way of knowing. She doesn’t even know if that bullet was meant for her at the pool. It could have just as easily been meant for him. He says he considered that. He’s been working with a high-powered security firm lately. Has she heard of Pikeman? She says, yes, she’s heard of Pikeman. Trust her. He doesn’t want anything to do with them.

Tracy guesses Gregory doesn’t miss lecturing, since he does so much of it outside the classroom, and he laughs. He notices his hand shaking and steadies it with his other hand. She asks if he’s okay, and he says he’s fine. Too many years of writing on a blackboard. Teachers don’t have to worry about that anymore; everything’s electronic. He’s sorry, but he has to run. He promised Alexis that he’d look over an article for her before it goes to press. They say goodnight, and he heads for the elevator, steadying himself for a moment along the way. Tracy watches him, and takes out her phone.

Molly thanks Alexis, and says, Alexis has given her a lot to think about. She wasn’t looking at it from Kristina’s viewpoint, and that’s something she and TJ have to consider. Alexis says she knows this is hard, and she’s sorry, but she knows Molly is brave and can handle it. And like she’s said, sometimes the most difficult things in life… Molly joins her in saying, can be the most rewarding. Alexis gives Molly a kiss, and says, Molly’s her favorite. Molly says, she tells all of them that, and Alexis says she does. The good news is, Molly isn’t doing this alone. Alexis did it alone twice, and it’s hard. But Molly has TJ, and that little guy; she points to the horse. Molly thanks her, and asks what she’d do without her. Alexis says, hopefully, she won’t have to know for a very long time. See ya, Valiant. She leaves, and in the hallway, her phone rings. She asks what she can do for Tracy, and Tracy says she just had dinner with a friend of Alexis’s, Gregory Chase. Alexis asks what Tracy was having dinner with Gregory for, and Tracy says, it’s not important. She wants to know if something’s wrong with him. Alexis says, in what way? and Tracy says, his health.

Lucy asks if Martin has checked in with his mother today, and he says he does every day; she knows that. If he doesn’t call, mama calls the neighbors. She says, so how is his mother today? and he says, she’s as vivacious as ever. He thanks her for asking, and says, as a matter of fact, she was trying on a new lipstick when they spoke. It’s Bingo night, and she’s vying for the affections of one Mr. Brewster, the most eligible bachelor there. Lucy says, clearly, she seems to be enjoying herself at the retirement home. It’s good, right? They take good care of her. She hears those places are very, very expensive. It makes her think he has such a huge financial burden; his mom and paying all that alimony to his ex-wives, three of them. He says, they’re a rather unique set of rapacious creatures, to be sure, especially number three. She’s a real piece of work. A vulture. Picks at your bones until there’s nothing left. Lucy says, she just sounds awful, and he says, she is, but he manages somehow for mama. He has to. It’s not like Cyrus can provide for her.

On the radio, the guard asks, where the hell’s that doctor? They need him here now. Drew tells Cyrus to stay with him, while he continues to blot Cyrus’s forehead. He says, hang on. Help is on the way. Stay with him. Come on. Stay with me. Cyrus sees a bright white light.

I’m no paramedic, but shouldn’t Drew be doing… something more?

Tomorrow, Anna asks how involved Sonny is with them; Carly accuses Ava of being up to her old tricks; and Dante asks, what happens if his old man’s theory is right?

🌱 Celebration Of Life…

The real-life memorial for Jacklyn Zeman. Still no word on how GH will be handling this. I don’t blame them. We haven’t recovered from Sonja Eddy yet.

🗽 What Happens In NYC…

Recapping the same old in younger packaging. So disappointing.

💎 Latest Edition…

So is this the best and final? What’s up with this woman?

🤢 Ptooey…

Eww. I’ll bet she’s thrilled to hear this.

⚗️ Watch This…

I watched this movie last weekend, and I loved it. Very funny and at times even poignant. It should also get an Oscar nod for costumes.

🐕 Don’t Dream It, Be It…

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. Maybe it’s weird, but more power to him for living his dream. And he’s bringing happiness to people. A real life Sam from True Blood. I always thought Sam would make the perfect boyfriend. When he became tiresome, he could turn into a dog.

☃️ Get Out the Parkas…

Join me tomorrow for soap and tea. Until then, stay safe, stay holding the elevator door if someone asks, and stay remembering that sometimes the most difficult things in life can be the most rewarding.
