What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

The show was on for a couple of minutes, when ABC broke in with news about the school shooting in Santa Fe. I get that, but it had happened several hours earlier, and, as usual, went way past the point of giving us news. That’s what I hate. My problem isn’t with the news itself, but all the amenities that come with it, like interviewing the janitor’s second cousin who witnessed nothing, but knows when it’s going to rain. Seriously, unless the world is coming to an end – and I mean literally, like if the sun is hurtling toward us – or we’re being invaded, I don’t see the point and it’s just irritating. Later, I was able to watch what I missed online with Verizon, but they usually don’t list it the same day. Lucky me, I didn’t have to imagine the lips syncing with the words on a pirated version.

General Hospital

Molly introduces Alexis, but she’s busy eavesdropping on Anna and Finn backstage. Finn tells Anna he’s never stopped caring. She’s never far from his mind and heart, and he wouldn’t want anything to happen without her knowing he cared.

Jason stops by Nelle’s room to find Michael. Michael asks if she’ll be okay for a few minutes. She says sure, and then the show gets interrupted for news that can wait an hour. I catch up a few hours later. Jason gives Nelle a stupid look. In the hallway, Jason tells Michael that Carly didn’t push Nelle, and deep down he knows that.

Finn apologizes to Anna for taking so long to tell her. Alexis makes herself known.

Nina doesn’t understand why Valentin is so eager to leave; he still has to perform. He promised Lucy, and Nina tells him not to let her down. She asks if something is going on.

Sam looks at the lighter on Peter’s desk, and sees the initials, CF. She says, Cesar Faison. She remembers Jason telling her about Faison carrying it, and that it wasn’t with his belongings. At the time, she’d said, if they find the lighter, they find Henrik.

Alexis, Finn, and Anna all look at each other. Alexis walks away. Finn says he should – and Anna says, yeah, he should. On stage, Lucy apologizes for the glitch. Alexis comes out to applause, but she keeps moving, and goes out the door. Mike points out to Sonny that she’s upset, and asks if he wants to go after her. Sonny says it doesn’t have anything to do with him.

Valentin tells Nina that he wants to get away with the two people that matter to him the most, her and Charlotte. Nina reminds him that his song at last year’s ball convinced her to give him another chance. He screwed up. Here’s his chance not to do it again.

Sam says Peter was in the hospital the night Faison died. She sees his copy of The Severed Branch. She flips through it, and says, just like it happened in the book.

Michael knows Jason will always defend his mother, and he’s grateful, but he wasn’t there. Jason says, neither was he. Jason asks what Nelle said. Michael says she told him that his mom lost control. Jason say that’s proof Nelle is lying. Carly would never risk her grandchild. He knows she would lie down in front of a train for her family. Michael says, under normal circumstances, and it’s been anything but normal lately. Jason insists it’s Nelle sabotaging Carly’s life.

On stage, Lucy says it’s not the Nurses’ Ball without some drama, but they’re not letting it ruin a good time. She tells the audience to kick it up a notch for the rocker others call Eddie Maine, but they call him Mr. Mayor. He and his first lady are spearheading the rebuilding of their city. In 60s garb with a flower power background, Olivia plays the tambourine, and Ned sings, (What’s So Funny ’Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding. Excellent.

Colleen Sullivan tells us to stay tuned for more glamor, excitement, and surprises. They’re just getting started.

Jason tells Michael there have been calls from a payphone near where Morgan died, a replica of his scarf, the power outage and intruder at Bobbie’s house, and Carly finds Morgan’s picture on the floor, broken. Michael asks if he thinks Nelle did all that. He’s going to have to prove it. Jason says like he’ll prove the blanket is real. Jason gets a call from Sam, but asks her to hold on. He says he needs Michael to be careful, for the baby’s sake and himself. Michael says Jason has given him a lot to think about. Jason gets back on the phone, and asks Sam what’s going on. She says she needs to see him. It’s important.

Molly – in a very becoming sleeveless gown that looks like it’s made out of blue/green glitter – tells Finn that whatever he said to upset her mother, she’s completely humiliated. So don’t apologize or try to fix it, just accept the fact that he’s a jerk and leave her alone. Anna says, oh dear. Ha-ha! She’s so British sometimes. He says it didn’t go exactly as planned. Anna says, for the record, she’s not dying. Finn says, for the record, he meant everything he said. Anna says she cares a lot about him too. Oh, kiss already.

Ava suggests she and Griff take advantage of his room upstairs; she could use a warm-up before her performance. Griff says he wants to watch the rest of show, She says it’s cool.

Stella tells Sonny it’s manifestly none of her business, but sometimes an outsider can pick up on things another person is too close to see. Sonny asks where she’s going with this. She tells him that he has a stare that could freeze a blasting furnace. Putting it on the woman who is the mother of his child might not be the wisest thing. Mike tells her to forgive him; he has a helluva temper. Sonny says it’s difficult to be in the same room, especially tonight, but she’s right. It’s not a good thing to show the world how you feel. Stella agrees. Sonny raises his glass to Ava, who’s like, huh?

Backstage, Kim asks Josslyn and Oscar if they’re ready. Drew joins them. Oscar says he didn’t know Drew was coming, and Kim says, neither did she. Drew says once he heard Oscar was performing, he couldn’t be stopped. Oscar hugs him, and says, thank you. Everyone smiles.

Anna says Finn needs to find Alexis and apologize. He says, yes, he does. Anna tells him that she’s not staying much longer. She looks at text from Henrik: Midnight. Pier 55. Come alone. She says she has a meeting. She can’t tell him about it, but after tonight, she’ll be closer to it all being over. She tells him to go find Alexis.

Alexis sits at the bar. The bartender asks what he can get her. She looks at the bottles.

Michael goes back to Nelle’s room. She tells him that she’s gotten the all-clear from the doctors. She’s being released tomorrow. He says that’s good news. She asks if there’s something wrong. He says Jason was telling him what was going on with his mother. She thinks someone is harassing her; messing with her head for months now.

Finn sits next to Alexis. She says he found her. He tells her the concierge saw her take the elevator. He says, that’s not a double-vodka? She says, it’s a club soda, and she wishes people would stop acting as if she’s dying for a bottle of gin every time she feels crappy. Finn says he never meant to hurt her; he’s sorry. She says he has nothing to be sorry for, and he didn’t hurt her. She just hurts. She knew he still cared about Anna; it’s not on him. He didn’t do anything. She allowed herself to be a prop in the game he was playing with Anna.

Anna starts to text Henrik. Robin startles her, and asks what’s up with her and Finn. Anna says it’s complicated, and suggests they go and enjoy the show.

Peter is messing with his phone, and Maxie says, more work? He tells her these are the last ones, and goes out to the hallway. Julian asks Molly if she’s getting nervous about Finn. She says she doesn’t want to fight with him – he did save her life – but her mother is in a vulnerable place. He’d better think long and hard before he does anything for Alexis’s sake. Julian says he’s not sure what means. She thinks he does. Kim asks what Julian doing about Alexis, and Julian says he’s here with her, and they should get back to their seats; her son is performing. Lucy says the Nurses’ Ball is known for spotlighting younger performers, and introduces Molly and Oscar. This is when the news released us back to the program. Or rather, commercials, then the program.

Molly sings, while Oscar accompanies her on the guitar. I think the name of the song is I Never Knew, but I’m not positive. I’m not familiar with it, and come up empty in a subsequent search. Sam shows Jason the lighter. She says she found it in Peter’s office. She was confused at first, since he said he wasn’t a smoker. She remembered he’d said he had to confront Faison about something in the hospital the night Faison died. Jason says Faison was honest for once. He’d said Henrik was hiding in plain sight. Jason says, Peter August is Henrik.

Mike tells Molly she was spectacular, and tells Oscar his date is pretty, but not as gorgeous as Stella. Kim motions Oscar over.

Kiki asks if she can sit at Molly’s table. Molly thought she was sitting with Dr. Bensch, but Kiki says she wants to be with people her own age.

Kim asks if Oscar is glad now that he took music lessons. I’m assuming that means she forced him to take them.

Michael asks Nelle if his mom mentioned anything to her. Nelle says she rambled about a disappearing note and Morgan’s cologne, but she wasn’t making sense. Something starts to beep on Nelle’s monitor. She begins to panic, and Michael tells her, just breathe.

Sam tells Jason that Peter is with Maxie, and asks how they’re going to do this.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s not feeling so great, and asks him to take her home. Valentin watches.

Robin asks if Anna is leaving already; there’s a lot left. She asks if it has to do with the emails she’s been receiving. Anna is cagey, and says she wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t important.

Lucy tells Valentin it’s his turn.

Kim asks Julian if he’s thinking about going after Alexis. Julian says he’s here with her. She says they promised to be honest with each other. He says they’re having a great time. She tells him if he needs a friend, he has one, and leaves.

Finn tells Alexis that she was never a prop. He fell for Anna more than he wanted to admit. He wasn’t using her; he wanted to move on. Alexis says that’s why they call it a rebound. There’s a good reason why people in same AA meeting shouldn’t hook up. He says it’s not about that; it’s about him. She deserves better. Alexis says that she needs him to not be there right now, and he wisely leaves.

Kim sees Olivia looking into the swag bags, and Olivia says she’s taking advantage of the break to snoop in the bags. We get an advertisement for Olay with Kim pitching the product.

Michael says he didn’t mean to upset Nelle. She tells him that she was so scared when Carly pushed her; she was out of control. Michael asks if she’s sure Carly pushed her, and she says, she absolutely pushed her. He tells her to get some rest. She says she’ll be fine, because he’s there.

Mike sees Deanna, and says he found his favorite nurse at the Ball. Deanna says, since it’s the Nurses’ Ball, the odds of that were pretty likely. Stella introduces mike to Felix. She thinks they’ll get along well.

Jason asks Robin if her mom is still there. He has to talk to her. Robin says she left, and asks, what’s up? He tells her Anna will explain when there’s time. Sam tells him that Peter left with Maxie. She thinks he’s meeting with someone. They have to get into Peter’s email account.

In the car, Maxie apologizes to Peter for making him leave early. He says he had to work anyway. He asks how she’s feeling, and she says like the baby is doing a kickboxing workout. She suddenly tells him to pull over. Her water just broke. Shouldn’t they jet to the hospital? Peter asks if she’s sure, and she says, very, and she’s done this before. She says they have no time to get to the hospital. There’s something wrong with the baby. Where’s that Star Trek transporter they always use?

Julian sees Alexis at the bar. Kim asks if she can join Drew. He’d thought Julian was her date. She says he had to see someone; she’s flying solo. They go in and sit together.

Jason and Sam go into Peter’s office. Jason leaves a message for Spinelli. He tells Sam that they don’t have a lot of time. They need to hack into Peter’s email. He pushes the keyboard toward her

Lucy tells the audience to give themselves a hand, and to keep the momentum going. The next performance was a surprise addition to last year’s Ball. He was so good, they asked him to come back. Valentin sits at the piano, and performs Peter Gabriel’s Book of Love, accompanying himself. He sings to Nina, and she smiles. He is really good.

As the song finishes, Robin get up. Robert is on stage. He punches out Valentin.

On Monday, David follows Kiki, Robert wants justice, and Anna waits for Henrik. Who is busy delivering a baby.

🏰 Sadly, tonight was the Once Upon A Time finale. Since they shoved it into the death spot on Friday night, and I knew it was the last season, I found it hard to commit, so I hadn’t watched much of it. I figured I’d catch up on a rainy weekend some time. I did want to see the end though, and it was sweet. They brought in many of the old characters for the farewell. In a nutshell, Rumpel/Gold and Belle were reunited at last, in heavenly clouds. All the realms were united, and Regina was chosen to lead them. Snow White and Prince Charming officiated at the coronation, crowning her The Good Queen. Emma called it a happy beginning, since Regina didn’t like endings, and the stories were far from over. However, Regina thought second chance was a better choice. because in the end, they could get past it all – with hope. And we saw the sign, saying, Leaving Storybrooke. Sad face.

🍖 It was also the finale of MasterChef Junior. The final three – Quani, Beni, and Avery – had to create a three-course meal. For their entrees, they each gathered inspiration from their roots, cooking catfish, veal chops, and a ribeye, respectively. A lot of attention was given to Quani having elevated the catfish. Apparently, none of the judges were a fan of it, which surprised me, since I like catfish. Although it sounded like one of those things that, if it’s not done exactly right, you don’t want to eat it. When they moved on to the dessert, and Quani’s tart broke, so did my heart. It was not a happy moment. Beni was the big winner, and the young chefs ended with a group hug. I have to confess, I both rooted for Avery, and was glad she didn’t win. She’s eight. Eight. And cooks better than anyone I will ever know.

General Hospital

On the phone at the MetroCourt, Carly says she’s excited about Nelle’s baby shower. No, really. She hangs up and takes a pill. Sonny asks how she’s doing, and she says better. He says that means Doc knows what he’s doing. She hopes it gets her through Nelle’s baby shower.

Nelle and Michael arrive at Kelly’s, and see Lulu and Dante. Nelle says they just came back from interviewing pediatricians, and asks who their kids see. Lulu says Valentin prefers Dr. Arden for Charlotte. Nelle thinks he’s a little cold, and Lulu says they could get along perfectly. What’s with these people? If I was Nelle, I’d be plotting against them too.

On the phone, Valentin tells someone to find a legitimate reason to get Robert on the plane, and he’ll take it from there. He needs to get rid of him.

Robert tells Anna that the problem with Jason is there’s no negotiating with him. Robert is concerned about the risks of Anna posing as Henrik’s mother and dangling herself as bait. He says she’s working hard to get herself killed.

Nina asks Peter what reason he has keeping a folder of personal things regarding Nathan. He didn’t even know her brother. Peter says he can explain. It was going to be surprise for her and Maxie.

At Nathan’s grave, Maxie says it should be a kind, generous, and thoughtful gift, but it’s a stunt. If Henrik wanted to do something good, he would leave her alone, or find a way to bring Nathan back. He has no idea how much she wishes it was possible. She hears something, and asks if someone is there.

Chet reveals himself. Since it’s a different Chet, I’m confused for a moment. He’s sorry he scared her. He’s also sorry about Nathan; he was good man. Chet wishes he could have gone to the funeral. Maxie says Amy told her that he was having health problems, but he says he’s doing better after the surgery. He’s brought Nathan his six-month NA chip, since Nathan had a lot to do with him achieving it.

Nina tells Peter it’s crazy, weird, and certifiable. He says it was for her. He thought she’d enjoy looking at it; remembering things, and learning new ones. He reached out to her mother and Aunt Liesl (aka Obrecht) . They’d saved tons of mementos, but he got most of it from her mother. Nina thinks it’s a load of crap, and is going to call Obrecht to confirm it.

Robert tells Anna that her plan screams trouble. She says she won’t break their agreement. She won’t tell Henrik that she’s really his mother, she’s just using that to draw him out. Robert asks what if he kills her first? She says she’ll just pretend for an instant, and then show her badge. He says her badge isn’t bullet proof. Anna tells him she’ll explain that he needs to be tested for Huntington’s disease. Robert says, so she’s just giving him a message, then going on her sweet way? She says he’s her son; she can’t just leave him like this. Robert says there lies the trouble he mentioned earlier.

Nelle apologizes to Lulu, saying she knows she made mistakes, and made life difficult for those Lulu cares about. She hopes Lulu will accept her apology, and she’s able to make amends one day. Nelle leaves to get a seat, and Dante asks Michael if everything is okay. Michael says they’re gearing up for the baby. Lulu says they’re here for whatever he needs, including a BS detector. Michael just wants everyone to get along, and Lulu promises to try for him.

Sonny asks if Carly is sure she’s up to do this; she can’t stand the Quartermaines or Nelle. She thinks she can handle a few hours. She tells Sonny that she’s not in a good place, and he asks why; is she seeing things? She can’t explain it, but she’s under stress, and can’t take more medication than what she’s supposed to. Sonny suggests she let Josslyn represent her at the shower and send a gift, but she’s not letting that snake win and paint her as a bad guy. She doesn’t care what Monica thinks, but she does care about Josslyn. She knows Morgan is dead and not coming back. She’s accepted it, but she’ll be damned if she’s letting Nelle alienate her from the son and daughter she has left. She’s going. Sonny gives her an envelope that arrived earlier. Carly takes out some paperwork, and says, she actually went through with it. Sonny asks who, and she says, Nelle.

Dante asks Lulu what’s going on in the world of journalism? She asks if he’s been reading her articles. She thought they’d agreed not to talk about work. He asks if she’s tried to contact Henrik, but Josslyn interrupts.

Michael sits with Nelle, and she says interviewing the doctors made it real. It’s exciting – and terrifying. She already feels for the baby, and Michael says that’s a good sign. She tells him that she found a lawyer to draw up the papers, and his parents probably have them by now.

Carly explains to Sonny that the papers are to make them legal guardians if something happens. She says that Nelle had second thoughts about Jason, since his life is up in the air. She wants the baby to have two parents, and a mother as fierce about her children as she is. She thought Nelle was blowing smoke, but she’s serious. Carly can’t believe that snake. Sonny thinks she needs to take a step back. From where he’s standing, it’s a good thing.

Chet tells Maxie that Nathen went distance to help with his medical bills. He made Chet look at himself, and he got clean. Maxie says Nathan would have been proud; all the Ask Man Landers insanity paid off. She congratulates him, and he says he should be saying that to her about the baby. She says she’s excited. Chet can’t imagine how hard it must be, but she says it’s easier knowing there’s a trust fund. She can’t thank him and Amy enough, and he says it’s the least they could do. She says it’s a thoughtful gift coming from a kind and generous place, as opposed to someone setting up a fund who’s not just anyone, but Nathan’s killer’s son. She’s going to give it back.

Peter asks Nina to hold off; he’s like to explain himself. Nina says she’s done with the stalling. Valentin shows up, asking if she’s done with work. She says, not quite. Her boss is lying through his teeth.

Maxie already knows that Nathan would accept it, saying the good outweighs the negative. She could go with that if it came from anyone other than Faison’s son. Chet asks how she knows he’s like his father? Maybe he’s looking for a way to honor Nathan, like he and Amy did. Maxie says that’s different; they’re friends. The gift came out of kindness and love. Chet says she doesn’t know the motives unless she asks, and in the end, does it matter? Its a chance to give back. Maxie admits she’s scared to not be angry, and have a place to put her pain and grief. Then what? Chet says she thinks it’s giving her strength, but it’s poison. Not until she lets it go will she feel the pain and loss, and find a way back to the good things again.

Nina tells Peter she didn’t know these things even existed, and he says that was the point. She goes through them; an award for a spelling bee, a letter from camp. Valentin says it does seem peculiar. Nina says it’s outrageous and intrusive. Peter is obsessed with Maxie, and finding a way to get close to her. Peter says that’s not the case, and Valentin says, then what is it?

Anna says she needs to have a conversation with Henrik. There’s a lot of speculation as to how complicit he was, and she wants to set the record straight. He should get the opportunity to expunge his record. Robert says, a fresh start? but Anna knows she doesn’t have the authority to make those deals. He asks, what about Jason? Henrik kept him captive. Anna says Henrik saved his life. She doesn’t want to argue. It’s all speculation, and he hasn’t been charged; he’s only alleged to have committed these acts in Russia. She just wants to give him a chance to explain. Robert says, no. She wants him to say he’s innocent.

Lulu tells Josslyn it’s well-written. The earthquake was dramatic, and Oscar’s take is insightful. Josslyn says it was in the school paper, and asks if Lulu could give it to the PC Press. She asks why not go through Drew, but Josslyn doesn’t think Oscar would like that. Dante asks if he knows she’s doing this, and she says not exactly, but she thinks would be cool. Dante says she’s so her mother’s daughter.

Michael tells Nelle that was fast, and she says she wants the baby protected. He asks if she thinks his parents are the way to go, and she asks if he doesn’t. He does, but what about her history with his mom? She says they’re going to be family now. The baby connects them, and whether they like it or not, they have to find a way to make peace. She’s showing she’s serious. Michael is glad she’s making an effort, and hopes his mom can do the same.

Carly is worried that Nelle is trying to slither her way back into their good graces, and use them to trap their son. Sonny says Michael knows that and won’t fall for it. Carly insists he doesn’t know that. Sonny asks who she would want to raise the baby, and she says, them, but they think they’re getting something when they’re just opening a door. Nelle has an agenda. She’s working an angle, but Carly hasn’t figured it out yet.

Josslyn tells Dante she is not her mom. Dante asks if Oscar wants it in the paper. Josslyn thinks it would be an awesome surprise. Dante asks if it matters what Oscar wants, and she says okay, she is like her mom.  Dante says if it ends up in the paper, to everyone on the outside, it might look like his father had something to do with it. It’s one thing to be goal oriented, but she should keep in mind that there are consequences for everything you do, intended or unintended. Josslyn respects his viewpoint, but says Oscar deserves it. Lulu says she’ll do her best. When she’s gone, Lulu says she felt like he was talking to her about unintended consequences. He wants her to be careful. She didn’t get hurt last time, but that doesn’t mean she won’t this time.

Michael leaves, and Josslyn tells Nelle they looked cozy. Nelle says they’ve been getting closer. She’s trying to prove she’s not the giant horror show Carly thinks she is. Josslyn says maybe her mom is warming up. They’re going baby shopping for the shower together.

Michael joins Carly and Sonny. He suggests that Carly is trying to see something that’s not there. Carly says that’s what Nelle wants them to think; they’re playing into her hands. Michael says he gets it; she’s playing them. He tells Carly this game has got to end. He gets it. Nelle hurt her, and she can’t stand that they’re having a child together. He needs her to back off.

Maxie tells Chet it’s a good thing we can’t look ahead see where we’d end up. Who knew in high school they’d end up where they are; the widow of cop and a wounded vet. He says life takes you to strange places, and Maxie adds, and you have no say. Chet asks if she’d change it. Maxie thinks for a moment, and says, no. The way it played out is the only way she’d have time with Nathan, and she has the baby. No matter how hurt and lost she feels, she wouldn’t trade it. What about him? Chet says after he was injured, he was angry. He was still alive, and his friends had been killed. He couldn’t stand to think about high school. Now, he draws strength from it. It beats being sad about how it turned out. Maxie says he’s right. She’s going to forget where the money is coming from, and focus on where it’s going. Nathan loved helping people, and would want her to do the same.

Peter tells Nina that he barely knew her or Maxie, and he witnessed their grief. He wanted to help. Maybe it was for him too, because he didn’t save Nathan. He’s sorry she’s upset; it’s the last thing he wanted. Nina says she’s taking the folder, and tells Valentin, let’s go. She tells Peter to stop using her brother to look good in front of Maxie. Valentin tells her to go ahead. After she leaves, Peter tells him to forego the lecture. Valentin says he just has an update. The plans for Robert are in motion.

Anna asks Robert what parent doesn’t want to see the good in their child. She wants him to be able to without Faison’s legacy. There are no charges against him, so she won’t be getting into trouble. Robert asks what about stealing five years of Jason’s life. He can’t see Jason not bearing a grudge. He thinks she’s lying to herself. She says Jason won’t listen. He’ll just find Henrik and kill him. Robert says then she’s leading Henrik’s assassin right to him. She says that’s not going to happen. She respects Jason and vice versa; she can handle it. Robert gets a text. He says it’s a case that’s been dogging him for months, even though he’d like to delegate it. She says she has this, and to go. Robert tells her to keep him updated. He leaves, and she begins to type on the laptop.

Maxie visits Peter’s office. He says he was worried about her. She says she went to Nathan’s grave to talk to him. Peter asks if she got any answers. She says a friend did. She could swear he was sent by Nathan, so she’s going to accept for Nathan and the other grieving families. Peter asks why she’s starting to come around; what convinced her? I space out while she’s saying something about friendship being like a sliver of light, and she feels the baby kick.

Nina looks through letters and photographs, telling Valentin that Nathan was a reindeer in the school pageant. He says his childhood might have been cold and harsh, but he didn’t have brother to lose. Sh’es had more than her fair share of pain. She says, him too. He says he has something to take care of, and asks if she’ll be okay. When he leaves, she makes a call to Obrecht, asking about Peter.

Michael tells Carly it’s good news that Nelle wants her for a guardian, if it comes to that. Carly hopes it won’t. She insists Nelle has an ulterior motive, and is working him; it’s just a gesture. If she tore up the papers, they’d never hear about it again. Michael takes the papers and rips them, saying he’s calling Nelle’s bluff. If Carly is right, he’ll let it go, but if he’s right, she’ll get new papers. If she does, he’d like it if they both accepted that Nelle is being genuine. Carly has a headache, saying it’s a side effect of her medication. She leaves to get some Ibuprofen, and Michael say the harder she pushes Nelle the worse it gets. It’s best to move past what happened. Sonny thinks Nelle is winning him over, but Michael is just asking him to try for the baby’s sake.

Dante tells Lulu if Henrik contacts her, he wants to know first. She wishes he wouldn’t give Peter a hard time. She feels awful, and hopes, if time passes, Maxie will come around. Dante does too, and she says for once, they’re all on the same page. Dante gets up, and Lulu gets a text from someone saying they think they’re Henrik’s mother (presumably, Anna). Dante asks, what’s up? Is she chasing a big story?

Josslyn finds Carly at the MetroCourt, and asks if she forget something. Carly realizes she’s supposed to be shopping with Josslyn, and Josslyn says Nelle brought her – to get a present for her own baby shower. Carly says time got away from her, and Josslyn says it’s not like her. Like with Avery in the park. Carly says that’s totally different. Josslyn says it seems like there’s something going on, and asks if there’s something Carly isn’t telling her. Carly says things are crazy and she’s off her game, but everything is getting better. It’s going to be okay.

Nelle joins Michael and Sonny. Michael tells Nelle it’s lame to take someone to get a present for your own shower. She says Josslyn was excited about the pop-up store, and she didn’t want her to miss out.  Michael is glad, and Sonny says he is too.

Dante says he’s proud of Lulu, despite his reservations. She says she feels the same about him. She looks at the text again.

On the phone, Nina tells Obrecht that she’s grateful she preserved Nathan’s childhood, and knows she misses him. She does too. When she’s done, she calls Curtis, and tells him to call off the investigation.

Peter asks Maxie if the baby kicked, and she says it was a full body roll. He can’t imagine what it’s like, and she puts his hand on her stomach. She says it’s not the same, but he can feel it. He starts laughing, and asks if she can believe an actual person is in there. She keeps wondering if the baby will be like her or Nathan, and Peter suggests a little of both. He can’t wait to meet him or her. Maxie says makes two of them.

Anna thinks back to Valentin telling her that she was afraid of ever letting go if she saw the baby.

Robert is on a plane, having a cocktail and getting sleepy. Valentin sits across from him, and says he hopes Robert is enjoying the drink. He tells Robert, nighty-night.

On Monday, Olivia has something to boost Ned’s outlook, Stella suggests a lawsuit, and Carly feels strongly about a fitting tribute.

🍜 On MasterChef: Junior Edition (aka MasterChef Junior), the kids had to cook for Junior alumni at a pop-up restaurant, with the pressure test being designed by the winner of season five. I missed that part, but came in to Gordon dressed like Mrs. Doubtfire, and Christine and Joe backing him up dressed as old ladies who weren’t Mrs. Doubtfire. It was like a grandmathon, where the contestants prepared dishes inspired by their grandmas, and the winner getting a visit from their grandma. The next challenge presented the young chefs with four different whole fish, and previous winner Quani got to choose who got which. This was the beginning of the end, as only three would be going on to the finale. The first ever eight-year-old, Avery, was one of the chosen, and told those leaving tonight that it wasn’t goodbye, but see you later. Wise, for one so young, and she can cook.

💍 Because I can never get enough of 90 Fiancé, tonight, I went down Danielle and Mohamad Memory Lane with a repeat of The Full Story. If you haven’t been introduced to this delightful pair, in a nutshell, Tunisian Mohamad traveled across the world to Ohio to marry halfwit Danielle. One look, and it’s doubtful he’d be interested, but he seems harmless enough, and genuinely glad to be there with her. Until she loses her job. Having immediately acclimated to the culture, Mohamad consulted a lawyer, finding out that not only would he be responsible for half her debt if they married, it takes a helluva long time to get a green card. Waiting until five minutes before the wedding, he decided to go through with it, but it was downhill from there, with Mohamad going on a never-ending business trip to Miami, posting pictures with many hot women on social media. There was an eternity of Danielle flip-flopping between getting an annulment, where Mohamad’s happy ass would go back to Tunisia, and a divorce, which would let the citizen chips fall where they may. In another last-minute move, Danielle’s lawyer basically told her she couldn’t afford an annulment if Mohamad fought it, which he intended to do. So divorce it was, although that didn’t stop Danielle from harassing Mohamad even after it was over. He disappeared after the reunion – called The Couples Tell All in this franchise – and was never heard from again. I’m still checking the headlines.

More infuriating than anything else, is my indecision on who I find to be the worst of the two. Mohamad, who so obviously did not come here because he loved Danielle, or Danielle, who was so obviously deluded. He would play the let’s-stay-friends card, then disappear, only to be seen on social media with hot women. She would convince herself that if she could just talk to him, he’d give her the happily ever after she wanted. It was no, just no, from the beginning, but she never saw that. It’s possible, had she not lost her job, he might have stuck around longer, but she was never going to make it happen. It was also clear pretty quickly that she was not that bright. It was like watching Groundhog Day, but without Bill Murray, and totally humorless. He would ghost her, she’d fall apart, then decide she could talk sense into him; she’d tell him she was getting an annulment, he’d meet with her and promise they could stay friends, she’d see his social media posts; rinse and repeat. They were equally awful. And I can’t wait for the new season, starting May 20th.

General Hospital

Carly tells Sonny there’s nothing physically wrong with her. He says that’s good news, but she says, now he thinks she’s losing her mind. He tells her, he didn’t say that. She says it’s obvious. He doesn’t want to talk about it right now. She tells him that he doesn’t know what’s going on, and then when he does, he dismisses it, thinking she’s making it up. He asks, what other explanation is there?

Griff tells Ava that Julian is conducting a search in the Charles Street area. Ava can’t believe it’s come to this. Her last, best hope is the city’s good will toward her brother, who used to be Public Enemy #1. Griff says the PCPD is looking too, and Ava wonders where Jordan is.

Dante starts to leave the station. Chase says, like or not, they’re partners, and he’s coming too. Dante tells him to keep up and keep quiet.

Avery, who looks like she’s aged a year from last week, tells Mike to wake up. It looks like they’re in a stable.

Peter sees Lulu go into Charlie’s. He sends a text, and follows. He tells her it seems he can’t shake her. She says she was there first, so who can’t shake who? He says, fair enough, and asks if she wants to join him for lunch. She can’t. She’s getting food for Dante’s family; everyone was up all night. Lulu’s phone dings, and she says this could be it. The man claiming to be Henrik just got back to her.

Robert tells Anna that Emma is in the game room with some other kids. Anna says, good. She’d rather Emma not be there when they question people about Faison’s son. He asks what Anna isn’t telling him about this case.

A Swiss banker tells Sam that he’s pleased to meet her in person. She says she can only give him forty-five minutes, and walks in with Jason. Sam says she was advised to transfer some of her assets to Switzerland, even though she’s happy with her Grand Keys bank. He suggests Jason go elsewhere, but she tells him that her mother doesn’t allow her to travel without protection. Just pretend he’s not there.

Ava tells Griff that she doesn’t need more caffeine, so her empty coffee cup has chamomile tea in it. She says the waiting is torture, and thinks about joining the search. Griff says they’ll probably want her there when they find Avery – and they will. She knows he wants her to keep the faith, but sometimes prayer and faith aren’t enough, and it’s too little too late.

Mike wakes up, and asks what going on. Avery asks about the horses. He remembers they were waiting for them to come back. She says she’s hungry, and he says, him too. He bets everyone is wondering where they are. He suggests they find everyone, and tell them where they were hiding.

Anna tells Robert that Henrik might have been an accomplice or a victim, probably both. She knows the kind of havoc Faison can wreak on someone’s mind. He’s probably not fully culpable, and she has medical information he needs. Robert says she’s only talking about Henrik and Faison. She asks who else, and he says, her. He asks her to talk to him, but there’s a knock at the door. It’s a Mrs. Everett Ashton. Anna thanks her for coming. They have questions about a former student. She says she’s sorry, but she can’t answer any of their questions.

Sam tells the banker she wants to diversify her assets between several countries with different banking laws. She gives him a flash drive, saying all of her information was put on it. He needs a security code, but she says she can’t say it out loud. While she’s typing it in, she makes sure he’s distracted by her behind. Or posterior, as Anna might say.

Sonny asks Carly how he couldn’t be worried, when she left her responsibility for Avery to reminisce at a grave? She’s called him out when he’s been off his meds. She tells him that she isn’t on meds, and Dante traced the calls, but he says it could have been someone calling a wrong number. There’s no proof of anything. She says she knows what she saw. She saw the scarf, smelled his cologne, and saw the writing on the flyer. She needs him to believe that she’s not imagining it. He doesn’t think she is; he believes that she believes it happened. She says, but he doesn’t believe it happened. He wants her to make an appointment with Doc after this is over and Avery is home.

Dante and Chase go to the stables, and find Mike and Avery. Dante asks if Avery is okay, and Mike says they must have lost track of time. Dante introduces Avery to Chase, and tells him to take her to the station. Chase makes a big deal about her riding in the police car. Mike wonders what’s going on, and Dante asks if he remembers meeting Chase. Mike says Chase threw him in jail, but Dante says they met another time, and they’re buddies now. Mike wouldn’t go that far. Dante is staying behind to talk to Mike. Dante tells Mike that he gave them a scare; they didn’t know where he was. Mike wishes everyone would keep their noses out of his business. He says where he takes his daughter is for him to decide, and Courtney wanted to see the horses. Dante says she’s not Courtney; she’s his granddaughter Avery. Courtney died a long time ago. Mike insists she was there. Is this man going to make me cry every time he’s in a scene?

Lulu tells Peter that she decided to follow up on the first email. She thinks it’s the real Henrik because it’s the same email address PK Sinclair uses for his correspondence with the publisher. She can trace it and find him.

Anna asks if Mrs. Ashton will hear them out. She says she thought they wanted advice regarding a prospective student, but she sees what’s going on, and it’s not the first time. Robert asks why she thinks they’re there, and she says many past students have become prominent figures, but she makes it a point never to engage with journalists. Anna says they’re not journalists, but Mrs. Ashton says the rule still applies. Anna shows Mrs. Ashton her ID, explaining they’re with the WSB, and a former student is a person of interest.

The banker tells Sam that he her investments are somewhat limited in scope, and they could accommodate her. She says her number one concern is security, and he says theirs is state of the art. Spinelli walks in, and the banker says it’s a closed meeting. Spinelli says they haven’t been properly introduced. He’s The Jackal, and dude and his bank are at his mercy.

Carly can’t believe Sonny wants her to see a shrink. Someone is messing with her, making her doubt herself and making everyone else doubt her. Sonny thinks they should be on the safe side after everything she’s been through. She says he thinks she’s losing her grip on reality. He says it’s not the first time. She had a breakdown before. When they thought Michael was dead, she had a delayed reaction. She realized she needed help, got it, and got better. He doesn’t want her to have to go away again. He needs her there in the present when Mike gets home. Her phone rings, and Carly says, thank God. She tells Sonny they’ve found Avery, and she’s okay.

Griff knows hope and faith aren’t in Ava’s tool chest. She says that’s putting it mildly. He starts to talk about when you lose hope, but Ava hears Chase coming back. She runs out of the room, and picks up Avery. Avery tells her that grandpa took her to see the horses.

Dante asks if Mike remembers the nice chat they had when he was arrested. He told Dante stories about the old neighborhood and they talked about the Yankees. They agree that the only reason there are other teams, is so the Yankees can beat them. Mike told Dante one of his first jobs had been cleaning stables at a racetrack. Mike says he admired the horses. They weren’t the Rockefellers, so cleaning up was the only way to get close to them. Courtney loves horses too, but they can’t afford lessons, so he should take her someday. Dante says that sounds like a great idea, but he looks tired and pained. Mike asks to go home.

Anna tells Mrs. Ashton that they think he attended school, and was a member of the Julius Caesar cast. Robert asks to talk to his colleague for a moment. He asks what Anna thinks she’s doing now? Anna says now Mrs. Ashton will answer their questions, but he’s concerned she’ll blab. Anna says after all these years, he should trust that she knows what she’s doing. He says he does, so he knows she’s off her game. This case starting to get under her skin.

Sam asks the banker, what was he saying about the security? He wonders how Spinelli got past the facial recognition, and Spinelli says state of the art is no match for him. He tells the banker the silent alarm has been deactivated, but will look like it’s still on. The banker says they’ve never been robbed, and Sam says, until today.

Spinelli sits at the computer and taps away, saying no matter how money is hidden, it still leaves a trail. He sees that the banker has done a lot of embezzling. He’s sure the people he’s stolen from will be happy their money has been found in his personal accounts. The banker says he can’t. Spinelli says he can and will, unless the banker cooperates.

Anna tells Robert that she’s a seasoned operative. She’s had years of experience, and knows what she’s doing. Mrs. Ashton asks if they’re playing good cop/bad cop. They’re both so polite, she can’t tell. Robert says he’s the good one. Anna says they were trying to find a loophole, so they could share more information with her, but they can’t. They can tell her that they don’t mean any harm, and aren’t out to ruin anyone’s name, but they need to question the former student on an urgent matter. She believes he was using another name at the school, and asks if Mrs. Ashton remembers Henri Françoise. Mrs. Ashton says she wishes they’d said so at the beginning. She’s certain he’s done nothing wrong. Anna shows her the photo, and asks which one he is.

Peter asks Lulu if she can really trace the email. She tells him when Spinelli tried, he hit a dead end, so it’s probably untraceable. He asks what her next move is, and she says he wants to meet up with her to share his side of the story. She’s going to take him up on it.

Sonny and Carly arrive at the station. Griff says checked he checked Avery out, and she’s fine; just a little dehydrated. Sonny asks where his dad is, and Chase says Dante stayed behind with him. Ava says they were apparently there all night, and they need to have a discussion about his father. Carly takes Avery to get some water. Ava tells Sonny that she was willing to look the other way when Mike vandalized the gallery. Sonny says she blackmailed him into letting Avery spend the night. She says they need to make sure Mike doesn’t do something like this again. Sonny asks what she’s suggesting. Mike walks in.

Spinelli says The Jackal has the banker’s information – the money he embezzled, how he spent it, and where he hid it. He sees that he also did some trophy hunting and killed two endangered species. Sam says that’s disgusting, and Spinelli makes an anonymous contribution to the World Wildlife Fund out of the banker’s account. He wonders what other charities could benefit. Jason reminds him that they still need to find Henrik.

Mrs. Ashton points out Henri. She says he was a handsome young man, always shy about being photographed. Anna wonders why a shy boy would take on such significant role, and Mrs. Ashton says the theater was safe for him, and where he was most comfortable to emerge from his shell. She thinks he relished becoming someone else, with a new name and identity other than his own.

Peter asks if Lulu is having second thoughts. She wants to meet with Henrik, but after what happened last time, doesn’t know if she should go by herself. He’s not wanted for a crime, but he is a person of interest. She thinks she should bring in the PCPD sooner rather than later. Peter asks what’s wrong with that, and she says she hasn’t told her husband what she’s up to yet.

Mike wants to go home. Chase says they’re good on their end. Avery says something about the horses, and Mike says he and Courtney waited all night. Ava asks who’s Courtney, and Carly explains she was Mike’s daughter and Spencer’s mother. Ava realizes Mike thinks Avery is his daughter. Dante gently explains again that it’s Avery, and Mike says, oh, right. He wants to lie down, and Sonny tells Avery let’s go home. Ava says, absolutely not.

Spinelli sees that the payment for the book has already been deposited, and sent by a wire transfer to Iceland. He says Henrik is very thorough in covering his tracks. He says Henrik’s picture is there, and everyone gathers around the computer. Sam looks puzzled.

Mrs. Ashton says, If she had to guess, Henri enjoyed being other people because his home life was troubled. He dreaded going home, and begged them to let him stay. His father had no use for him, and she could never rid herself of the impression that he would have been happier with a loving mother. She says he was a special boy. They thank her for her time. Anna asks if she might have any class photos, but Mrs. Ashton says she never held on to those. Anna asks if there’s anything physical she remembers that set him apart; something that would have distinguished him. Mrs. Ashton says he had the most emotive brown eyes, which was what made him so effective on stage.

Peter is surprised by Lulu, and not in a good way. She never struck him as someone who needed to ask permission. She says she doesn’t need permission, but wants to make him aware and persuade him. She’s not sure now is the right time with Avery missing, but she’s concerned Henrik could go underground. Who knows when she’d get another shot? Her food comes, and she thanks Peter. He tells her to be careful. Henrik could be more dangerous than she’s giving him credit for.

Anna tells Robert the meeting was productive. Now they know he has brown eyes; that narrows it down. Robert says, that’s if he’s the same person. She’s sure he is. He says it’s time to tell him the truth. What is the case really about? She tells him if he wants to help, help; if not, don’t. He asks what the child really means to her.

Ava says Avery is not going home with the man who kidnapped her. Chase says he’ll question him, but Sonny says his father didn’t kidnap Avery. Ava says she was gone overnight; what else would you call it? Griff understands, and shares her concern, but Mike didn’t mean any harm. She knows Mike isn’t well. Ava says that’s her point. Avery isn’t spending one more night under the same roof. Avery is coming home with her.

She and Sonny have a stare down.

On Monday, Robert realizes Henrik is Anna’s son, Michael tells Nelle he’s optimistic, and Spinelli tells Sam if she touches something they’re dead.

🍳 I watched the second hour of MasterChef Junior, and unfortunately missed the eggs Benedict challenge. Eggs Benedict is one of my favorite things in the world, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have learned anything, unless there’s a new way to order them at a restaurant. I came in at the tail end of the next challenge, where eight-year-old Avery’s superb cake won her immunity. While she went to the balcony, chocolate chips literally rained down on the rest of the junior contestants, since the next challenge was chocolate oriented. A golden apron was the prize, as well as a definite spot in the finals. Avery was given the option to forego her immunity and join in, but she thought better safe than sorry. Mikey got the gold, while Anthony and Cade were out for bad cream puffs and overpowering cocoa, respectively. Anthony told us that he was going to keep his head up and keep on cookin’. Well said. Next time, the young chefs will be cooking for now older alumni.

General Hospital

Carly tells Griff that she’s had a few incidents where she’s heard or seen something, then it’s not there. Griff asks why Sonny thinks something is wrong. Carly says she does too, but not with her health.

Mike is frustrated, looking for his glasses. Sonny tells him it’s no big deal, but Mike thinks losing anything is a big deal for him. Sonny takes the glasses out of Mike’s shirt pocket, and hands them to him. Mike wants to go for a walk, but Sonny says he could use some company. Mike asks what’s on his mind. Sonny says he’s happy Mike is there, and wants to make most of it. He says Mike brought something up the other day, but then they got distracted. He was hoping to finish the conversation. Mike asks if it was horses, cards, or ladies, and they laugh. Sonny asks, what about a field in Croton?

In Bern Switzerland, shopping bags are all over Anna and Emma’s suite. Emma asks Anna if she looks convincing for a secret mission in her new dress. Anna praises her look, and says she should give her mom a call. Jason knocks at the door. Anna tells him that he’s just in time. She and Emma need a bodyguard.

Carly brings Griff up to speed about the phone calls. Griff says it sounds intense, and Carly tells him that  Dante traced the calls to a phone booth on Angel’s Bluff, close to where Morgan died. Griff says it must have been difficult being there, but Carly says she misses him everywhere she goes. She explains about the scarf, saying it was in the picture of Morgan on her desk. She tells him that she’s not making it up; she held it in her hands. He asks where it is, and she says the fire alarm went off and they had to evacuate. When she came back, it was gone. Griff asks what it felt like, and she says, like a scarf. Ha-ha! She tells him it was torn, dirty, and had what looked like blood stains on it. Griff asks if she had any weird sensations, smelled any odors, or got nauseous. She says every time she remembers Morgan getting killed, she gets sick. She knows someone else was in the house. He asks if she heard or saw them, but she says she could feel them. He tells her that sometimes you can pick up on something your other senses don’t register, and to always trust it. Usually it’s nothing, but it can save your life. She tells him that Sonny showed up, and scared the hell out of her. She almost took him out with a baseball bat. She’d heard sounds coming from Morgan’s room. When the lights came back on, she found a framed picture of him, with the glass in the frame shattered.

Sonny tells Mike that he mentioned a field in Croton, and sounded upset. Mike isn’t recalling it, and Sonny says if he’s upset, he can take it off Mike’s mind. Mike appreciates the offer, but has the feeling he did something to piss Sonny off. Sonny says he just wants to help him. Mike says whatever it was, is gone now. Sonny knows it’s difficult to remember. Mike says he’ll do his best. Sonny says it was a long time ago, and he’s not upset or mad in any way, but it seemed like Mike felt guilty. If that’s the case, of something is eating away at him, they can find out why and move on.

Griff knows it’s difficult to talk about, but Carly understands he has to rule stuff out. He tells her that a compromised brain can lead to incidents.

Anna tells Jason that she’s posing as the Widow Ashton (a nod to Larry?), and needs a pretend bodyguard. She was going to make him into her son-in-law, but his look screams bodyguard. She needs to make inquiries, and wants a bodyguard for Emma. She asks him what his jacket size is, and he tells her to ask Carly. Ha-ha! Emma comes out, and tells him that they got new clothes for their secret mission. They got an outfit for him too. She gives him a garment bag, and he tells Anna that they need to discuss this. She asks Emma to do some more research. She says she loves it, and Jason says she’s obviously Anna’s daughter. Anna says that’s why they need a bodyguard.

He asks why they don’t just break in to get the information from the records room. Anna says if she wanted to do that, that’s what she’d do. Does he think she can’t handle a simple robbery on her own? He thinks it might be beneath her. She asks why break in, when they can walk in without suspicion? He asks why not save time? She gets that he’s used to working alone, and he asks how they’re going to do this.

Sonny tells Mike to try again. Mike is sorry. He wishes he could help, but he has to find his glasses. Sonny picks them up from the table, and hands them to Mike. He tells Mike to sit, and breaks out a jigsaw puzzle. He says Griff thought would help. Mike asks if he’ll be putting together a picture of things he’s forgotten. Sonny says it’s not about remembering the past, but focusing on the present. Mike explains that the way to do it is to find the frame first, and fill it from the outside in. Sonny has some business to attend to, and asks if Mike will be okay. Mike says since he has three hundred pieces to deal with, he should be all right.

Griff looks at Carly’s records, and notices that after Morgan was born, she had a bullet removed from brain. She explains that when she was in labor, Sonny thought someone was trying to hurt her, and when he shot them, the bullet went through them and into her. It was a helluva day. He notices she had another incident more recently. She says it was when she was pregnant with Josslyn, but they both came out fine. Griff says traumatic injury effects can show up years later. She has a history of falls and wounds. She tells him that he might as well know that she was hospitalized twice for nervous breakdowns; the first one was mostly fake. Michael was kidnapped as a baby, and the kidnapper only got a slap on the wrist, so she shot him in open court. She was afraid she’d go to prison, so she faked a break with reality. The second time was a real breakdown.

Anna wants Jason to watch Emma while she slips away to get the records they need. Jason says, so what she needs is a babysitter, which is exactly what I was thinking. She says she’ll be making a path toward Henrik. Jason thinks simple and clean is the best way. Just go in and make a demand; it doesn’t require a cover. She asks what about Spinelli, and Jason says he set Jason up with what he needs to catch Henrik. Anna insists that a widow with disposable cash and a beautiful granddaughter is how to pave the way. Jason says he knows how good she is, and knows she doesn’t need him. She’s making a diversion, so he doesn’t get to before she does.

Nanny Pilar and Avery are headed to the park. Mike says he’ll join them.

Carly tells Griff that she’s not embarrassed about it. Michael’s biological father, AJ, staged Michael’s death. They even had a funeral and everything. She forgot to breathe; she just couldn’t take it. She held breath for longer periods of time, like she was trying to keep in suspended animation. I can actually understand what she’s saying. She tells Griff, obviously, Michael came back fine, but she didn’t recognize herself. She was paralyzed, fragile, weak, and powerless, and she doesn’t do powerless. Her phone rings, and it’s Pilar. She asks if it’s okay if Mike goes to the park with them. Finding out the test won’t take long, Carly tells Pilar it’s fine, and she’ll meet them there. She continues her story, telling Griff that she went to the hospital, and made a complete recovery. He asks if the feelings she described ever resurfaced, and she says, never. Morgan’s death rocked her to her core, but she never felt like she was losing herself. Griff says he’ll put a rush on the tests, and get her out. She says she remembers what it’s like to feel lost, but this is nothing like that. It all happened, and it’s all real.

Sonny goes to the hospital, looking for Griff, but Deanna says he’s not answering. Stella comes by, and asks how Mike is doing. Sonny says, not so well. It seems like every day, Mike is slipping away a little more.

Mike is ready to go, and tells Avery, let’s hit the road.

Anna says even if Jason found Henrik first, he’d wait for her, because they’re on the same side, aren’t they? Jason says he wants answers; she wants to protect Henrik. There’s a knock at the door. Jason waits on the side, his gun ready. Anna opens the door, and immediately closes it. She opens it again, and asks, what the hell are you doing here? It’s Robert.

Sonny tells Stella sometimes Mike makes perfect sense, and he lets his guard down. Then, bam! a left hook. Now it’s fifty years ago, and Mike is wondering if his parents are waiting for him. He’s like a time traveler. Stella says there are no easy answers. She can occupational therapy to his schedule, and Sonny should discuss medicinal options with Griff. She tells Sonny If he needs any help, let he know, and she’ll make sure it happens. She tells him to bear in mind that no matter how well the disease is managed, as the patient deteriorates, the symptoms change; it’s curveball after curveball. Sonny says it’s funny. When he was a kid, he used to wait up, playing a game about if Mike was going to show up. As he’s talking, we see Mike playing in the park with Avery, and once again, Max Gail takes my heart and stomps on it. Sonny says eventually, he stopped playing; stopped expecting things from Mike, and learned how to take care of himself. Now he’s playing the same old, losing game, but worse. He’s asking himself is Mike going to remember what day it is or what he had for lunch, or does he work at Kelly’s? He wonders about the day to come when Mike doesn’t recognize him.

Carly sees the noodle house ad underneath the windshield wiper. There’s something written on the back.

Robert says a suite and a shopping spree; what is Jason doing there? He didn’t think Jason worked undercover. It’s not his style. Jason hands Robert the garment bag, and leaves. Robert asks Anna what’s going on. She tells him that she and Jason are in the middle of following an important lead, and he ruined it. He’s shocked she brought their granddaughter, and is using Jason as backup. Anna says she’d would never involve Emma in anything dangerous. It’s a research mission, and he’s blowing it out of proportion. He says not where Faison is concerned, and Anna says it’s Henrik, not his father. Robert says Faison still has an important hold on her.

Stella tells Sonny that she heard about the night at Luke’s, and he says it was like going back in time; Mike was his confident, old self again. She says it was a beautiful gift, and he says it was great while it lasted. Sonny asks if recreating a moment could be a way to get Mike to remember something, and Stella says there’s no magic wand. She’s not telling him don’t try, but there’s no guarantee. Sonny wonders if it’s worth a shot, and she tells him the bottom line is, there’s no way to influence or manipulate what he remembers or doesn’t. What he needs is kindness, compassion, and empathy. He needs to be kept calm and have structure in his life. Maybe it will come on its own, but like Sonny did when he was a child, prepare for disappointment; it might not come back at all. Sonny says that’s what he was afraid of. Stella says in the meantime, he and his family should treat themselves with the same kindness and empathy. He has unfinished business, and Mike’s memory will disappoint him. The one thing he can rely on, is that it gets worse until it can’t get any worse. Sonny likes her; she gets to the heart of things. Stella hopes he appreciates it when she tells him the time will come when Mike no longer remembers his name, and he should forgive himself for wanting what Mike couldn’t give him.

Carly calls Pilar, and tells her to go back to the house and meet her there.

Griff joins Sonny and Stella, Stella reminds Sonny that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Griff asks how it’s going. Sonny says all right, but he was hoping to meet Carly there. Griff tells him that Carly had a test to rule some things out. Sonny asks if they were brain scans, but Griff says he’ll let Carly explain.

Pilar says they have to head back home. Mike says they saw a pretzel cart, and it wouldn’t be an outing without getting one. Pilar relents, and Mike looks at the money in his wallet, but seems confused. Pilar says she’ll get them, and tells Mike to stay with Avery. After she leaves, Mike calls Avery, Courtney.

Robert says Anna needs to get away from all things Faison, so she can heal. She says it sounds lovely, but she has to find his son first. Robert tells her to let Jason do it, and she says she would if they shared the same viewpoint. Robert says she makes Henrik sound like a victim, and she says they won’t know until the find him. Emma comes back out, and asks if Robert came to help with the mission. He asks what brings her across the pond, and she says a research project for school, and she’s helping grandma with a secret mission. She asks what he’s doing there, and he says there’s no secret mission without him. He’s coming too. Anna is like, no way, telling Emma that he has more important things to do. Robert says he’ll check with HQ, and looks at Emma. Emma says, permission granted. Robert tells Anna he’s going to keep her from getting into a mess.

Sonny returns home. He sees the frame of the puzzle completed, but no Mike.

Pilar also comes back to no Mike – or Avery. She drops the pretzels and runs off to look for them.

Deanna gives Griff the test results. He reads, the preliminary tests show no markers indicating that Carly is having episodes originating from a physical cause.

Carly starts the car. The noodle house ad is on the passenger seat, and the back says, find me where you left me tonight.

In the hallway of the hotel in Bern, Jason asks Sam what she’s doing there.

On Monday. Ava wonders what Griff is hiding, Jason tells Sam that Henrik is targeting his mother, and Carly looks for Morgan.

🍳 I saw the last hour of this week’s MasterChef Junior, which is now being billed as, MasterChef: Junior Edition. It’s down to the top twelve, who all have more cooking talent in their pinkies than I’d have if I had two bodies. It fascinates me that the kids have such sophisticated skills and palates, yet they’re still kids. They got really excited when given tonight’s mystery box, which was also a HUGE plug for Blue Apron. The boxes were empty, mystifying the contestants, who were then led to the Blue Apron pantry, where they were to pick ingredients for their Blue Apron recipe. Lots of brand placement here. Gordon cooked along with them, which was cute, and he also got a critique. The lightheartedness of the judges is also a nice change from the screaming and yelling. Not that I can’t wait for the next Hell’s Kitchen. Winner Billy got a sweet prize; his recipe gets a spot in the Blue Apron (he-he) rotation, and he got saved from elimination. As if that wasn’t enough, he also got to pick the pairs for a tag team challenge, and another contestant to save. The challenge was creating a plate of classic Far East appetizers. Billy told us it was like a chess game, and chose the teams based on more erudite reasons than I would ever think of. Best of all, no one went home.

General Hospital

At the hotel, Maxie runs into Peter putting his room tray out. She tells him she locked herself out of her room, and is going to have to go to the lobby in her PJs for a new card. He insists she use his phone.

At a restaurant in Belgium, Andre tells Anna it doesn’t look like Port Charles will be rebuilding for a while. At least her loved ones are all right. Anna says Felicia and Griff texted. He asks about Finn, and she says she didn’t hear from him, but Griff said he was working in the ER all night. Andre says she must be glad he’s safe. She changes the subject, saying she’s grateful for Andre’s help in tracking down the midwife. He says being a medical professional has its perks. A woman approaches the table, and says she’s Michaela, the midwife. How old was she when she delivered Anna’s baby? Ten?

Sonny tells Carly that everyone is accounted for. Carly can’t believe Josslyn is okay, and Michael is supposed to be released this morning.

Nell looks at Michael’s picture on her phone. Monica asks how she’s feeling, and Nelle says shaken up, but all right. Luckily, Carly was with her, and she’s not being facetious. Carly did a good job calming her down. Monica says Michael has been released, and should be there any minute.

Jason asks how Michael’s head is, and Michael says he’s gotten the all clear. He asks what happened to Jason, and Jason says, a lot. He just dropped Sam off to check on Drew.

Sam asks how Drew is feeling, and he says fine, now that she’s here. He’s fine and the kids are fine; what about her? She says she made it through without a scratch, but she did go to look for him. He can’t believe she went alone. She says she wasn’t. She was with Jason.

Anna says it must be a mistake. The midwife who delivered her baby would be seventy at least. Thank you. Michaela says she must be looking for her mother; they’re both midwives. Anna asks if they can contact her, but Michaela says she died last year. Anna and Andrew give their condolences. Andre asks if she kept any records. Anna says she wasn’t in the position to take care of a child, and Michaela’s mother arranged an anonymous adoption. Michaela says that’s often how it works now. Anna says it’s vital she find the family. It’s possible her child inherited a genetic illness that manifests between the ages of thirty and fifty. Can Michaela help?

Maxie looks around Peter’s room, and says she thought there was no damage from the earthquake. He tells her that his clothes just blew out of the drawers; obviously, he’s not a neat freak. Maxie says neither was Nathan. Peter says maybe it’s a guy thing, but Maxie thinks maybe it’s a slob thing. He asks when she checked in, and she tells him a few nights ago. She can’t stay in the apartment without Nathan.

Carly tells Sonny that she gets why Michael is checking on Nelle, but doesn’t want him to send the wrong message. Sonny says she seemed nice to Nelle when he found them, but she says Nelle was scared when she thought the baby was in trouble. It’s nice to know she’s concerned about her child, but it doesn’t change anything; she’s seen Nelle’s true colors. She tells Sonny that Mike got lost again, making it twice in a matter of days. They have to deal with his father’s Alzheimer’s. They have to make a plan.

Jason tells Michael about the trailer collapsing. Michael asks what they did, and Jason says they found a way out. Michael wonders if it was as simple as that, and Jason remembers Sam telling him that she still loves him.

Sam tells Drew that Jason was at the Quartermaines. The roads were closed, and she asked for a ride on his bike. When she saw The Floating Rib was destroyed, she was scared when she couldn’t find him. He tells her he was trapped under a freezer door. She asks how that’s possible. He explains that they couldn’t find Oscar and Josslyn, and discovered they’d wandered off to be alone. By the time he and Kim found them, the earthquake had jammed the door, and they both had hypothermia. Josslyn recovered quickly, but not Oscar. When the aftershock hit, he was knocked unconscious and pinned under the freezer door. She asks how he got out, and he says, Franco and Dante. She didn’t think there was such a thing as karma, but Franco wouldn’t have been there if she and Jason hadn’t saved him.

Maxie knows should be handling it better. She’s a grown woman and a mother. Peter thinks she’s doing great. He saw what it was like going back to the apartment, and it’s beyond him how she even spent the night there. She says she slept on couch, and when that didn’t help, she cleared out Nathan’s stuff. She thought that would make it easier, but just made the rooms look emptier. She tells Peter it’s like the baby has a sixth sense. Whenever she’s in a downward spiral about Nathan, it gives her a kick. She was thinking about how unfair it is. The baby is carrying Faison’s genes, and Nathan would help her decide what to do. Does she really want to know if the baby is predestined to be sick when it’s older? All of the life-changing impossible decisions have to be made alone, and she doesn’t know what to do.

Michaela says her mother was known for extending her services, and Anna says she was kind. She didn’t push her when she didn’t want to hold the baby, and promised to find a good home. Andre asks if she knows any way to find out anything. Michaela tells him that because of the nature of her practice, she was afraid of discovery. It would have been indiscreet to keep records. She’s sorry, but she can’t help

Sonny asks Carly to wait a second, but she says it can’t wait. Mike was arrested. Sonny says it worked out. She says he was alone in middle of a natural disaster; this can’t go on. Sonny says it’s not his turf or home. He needs to get back to Brooklyn. Carly says he should stay there with them.

Nelle tells Monica that maybe Michael was delayed. Monica says he told her that he was stopping by to take Nelle home.

Michael tells Jason that he’s glad they made it, and Nelle and the baby are fine. He can’t change that Nelle is carrying his child, and doesn’t know if he can trust her again, but the thought of something happening to her scared hell out of him. He asks Jason what his take on Nelle is, and Jason says he barely knows her. Michael wants to know his opinion from what he’s seen and heard. He trusts Jason more than anyone.

Sam tells Drew that Franco had barely left the trailer when the aftershock happened. They were literally hanging off a cliff, and had to jump before the trailer exploded. Drew thinks she should be checked out, but she says she’s fine. She asks about him, and he says as long as she’s there, he’s good. It’s the first time he’s ever been grateful to Franco.

Maxie can’t fathom Nathan having anything wrong with him, and Peter says maybe he didn’t have it. She says there’s a 50% chance he didn’t, and could have been totally healthy. Maybe the other son is one who drew the short straw. Wouldn’t it be justice?

Anna says that she and Michaela’s mother formed a friendship. She was sweet and understood things. Maybe she mentioned Anna? She’d called her Tess, as in Tess of the d’Ubervilles. Maybe she knows that name.

Drew tells Sam he could only watch while Kim and Dante did CPR on Oscar. He felt guilty. He missed so much of his son’s life; he wants to make up for lost time. Sam hopes he gets his wish. He says all of his wishes are granted right now. He just needs one more thing – to get out of here. Monica walks in, and says that can be arranged.

Michael tells Jason that Nelle went beyond messed up. It didn’t have to be this way. If she hadn’t made the decisions she did, it would have made all the difference. Jason asks if she could go back, would she change what she did. Michael thinks so. She didn’t have an easy life. He knows his mom has issues with her, but she’s made enough mistakes to understand that people deserve second chances. Jason wonders why she can’t get there with Nelle, but says she has good instincts. If he were Michael, he’d trust them.

Carly tells Sonny that Mike can stay with them. They have plenty of room and can hire professional caregivers, and despite his relationship choices, Griff is a great doctor. Sonny says he’s not moving in. He’s from Brooklyn, and Sonny can put him in his own neighborhood; he’ll do whatever it takes. Carly says Mike is the only family he’s got. Sonny says he’s handling it, but Carly says he’s not. Sonny says the last time he checked, Mike wanted him back with Brenda, and she resented him for that. She says she’s not doing it for Mike; she’s doing it for him.

Nelle’s phone rings. She answers, then says, it’s not possible; it can’t be.

Monica says if Drew promises to take easy, he can go home. He says, in that case, he promises. Monica is thankful he’s okay, and proud of how he looked after Oscar, getting him and Josslyn out of danger. She tells Sam to take care of him, and he says they’re doing a good job taking care of each other.

Jason tells Michael about Hanna Scott, a girlfriend of Sonny’s who turned out to be a Fed. Everyone thought things were fine, but Carly zeroed in on it immediately. Sonny didn’t listen, so Carly trailed her. She ended up getting mugged, and her wedding rings were stolen. She was married to AJ at the time, but Jason replaced them for her. Michael says it makes sense now why she still has them. They remind her of Jason. Jason says she was relentless, and eventually was proven right. Michael asks if Jason thinks he should trust Carly’s instincts, but Jason says, no; he should trust his own, and like Carly, don’t let anyone talk him out of them.

Carly understands that Sonny doesn’t want to watch Mike deteriorate, and become a shell of himself. Sonny doesn’t know if he can do it, but Carly says he can, and she’ll be next to him. He can change his mind in six months, but there will be less of Mike to spend time with. She suggests he do it now, while he still can. Sonny say he’s scared. Carly says she knows, but not to let fear trick him into pushing Mike away. It’s going to hurt no matter what, but he has the opportunity to come away with something positive. He can make peace while Mike is still himself. She wants that for both of them, and knows he wants it too.

Mike comes downstairs, and asks if the phones are working. He called Rita, but she said she’d moved back in with her sister. He must have heard wrong. Sonny looks at Carly.

Peter tells Maxie that he did some research, and she can have the test between the 16h and 18th week of pregnancy.

Peter says he knows Maxie was worried, and wanted to help. Maxie isn’t sure she wants to know. He asks when she’s due, and she tells him June 17th. He says the timing is perfect. She says the baby is going to be a Gemini. Peter says he is too – his birthday is on June 13th.

Michaela asks Anna what the baby’s date of birth was, and she says June 13th. What a coincidence! Michaela tells Anna that her mother lit a candle every year on that date, and said a prayer for the baby. Anna asks why. Michaela says years later, her mother ran into the family, and they’d had to let the baby go. She questioned them about it, but they deflected, and ran off. She never saw them again. She suffered greatly over it because she felt responsible. Andre says it wasn’t her fault, and it isn’t Anna’s either. Anna is a survivor, and so is her daughter. Michaela says Anna didn’t have a daughter. Her mother had said she had a perfect little son.

Peter asks Maxie if it Isn’t better to know everything and be prepared. She wonders how it’s his business, and he apologizes for overstepping. She says, no, she’s sorry. She lost her edit button when Nathan died, and wasn’t tactful to begin with. He says she’s entitled to her feelings, and she says he’s entitled to his opinion. Peter says they’re colleagues, and she has the right to keep things to herself. Maxie says he was with her when Nathan died, and they’re past being acquaintances. Nathan would want her to get tested. He was concerned to point of being obsessive about the baby’s health, and she told him the baby would be fine. Look how wrong she was. Peter tells her somehow, someday, everything will be fine.

Anna tells Michaela that she was led to believe she had a girl. Maybe someone else gave birth on the same date. Andrew says without documentation, they don’t know anything, and asks Michaela if there’s anything else she can tell them. Anna says there’s a 50% chance of her daughter getting the disease, and she should know. Michaela tells them to wait. She has something that might help. She leaves, and Andrew asks if Anna is sure she had a daughter. Anna says she didn’t ask; she didn’t want to know. Valentin is the one who told her, but what could he possibly gain by lying? Andre says for some reason, he doesn’t want her to find her son.

Carly tells Mike she’s sorry, but he heard right. Rita left him. Mike says they were together five years, and had a great thing going; why leave? Carly says she came there looking for him, and she had to tell her about him being sick. Mike says she had no right, but Sonny says Rita backed her into a corner; she had no choice. Carly says when Rita found out, she made it clear she hadn’t signed on for that. Mike says, for him? Carly says, to see him through an illness like that. Sonny says he’s sorry, and Mike starts to cry. This dude is tearing my heart out every other day. Mike asks what he’s supposed to do now, and Sonny says this is what they’re going to do, and it’s going to be okay.

Nelle dries her tears. Monica comes in, and asks what’s wrong. Nelle tells her the earthquake destroyed her apartment building. She’s homeless.

Michael tells Jason that he’s going to see Nelle; he’s the only person she has. He thinks Jason is right about his mom’s perspective. She’s usually right about people in general, but especially about the two of them. She thinks Jason and Sam belong together. Maybe she’s on to something. Michael moves along, and Jason takes the dog tag out of his pocket and looks at it.

Sam asks if Drew is ready to go home. He says he’s always ready.

Jason wants to leave the dog tag at the nurses’ station for Sam. He says her husband was admitted to the hospital. Drew is suddenly there, and says Jason got lucky. He can give it to her himself. He asks what it is.

Anna tells Andre that she thought she and Valentin had reached truce of some sort. What possible reason would he have to lie? Andre says maybe it’s as simple as him knowing something she doesn’t. Anna hopes Michaela is wrong. She needs to believe her daughter is in good hands; a happy and well-adjusted adult, who didn’t inherit anything from Faison. Andre prays she’s right. Michaela wasn’t exactly forthcoming, and he’s not entirely sure they can trust her.

Michaela returns, saying she wasn’t sure she could trust Anna at first, but her mother did keep records. Perhaps this will help Anna find what she’s looking for. She gives Anna an envelope. She takes Anna’s hand and wishes her good luck. Anna thanks her, and she leaves. Anna opens the envelope. She says it’s her baby. It doesn’t just have the date he was born, but the year and the time. She has a son.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s going to do it. She’s going to have the baby tested. Peter says from the information he got, she should have someone go with her. She asks if that’s to peel her off floor, and he says or help celebrate. He suggests Nina, but Maxie hasn’t told her. Peter asks what about her mom? Maxie says her mom is amazing, but she’ll only make her more nervous. Peter asks her to tell him if he’s overstepping, but he’d be more than happy to go; someone to be there when she takes it in. She says she’d like that.

Anna looks at the baby’s footprints on the paper.

Sonny tells Mike he doesn’t have to go back. He should stay with them, and spend some time with his grandchildren. Carly says soon there will be a great-grandchild. He can share memories and laughs; let them take care of him.

Michael asks Nelle if she’s okay, and she tells him it was a false alarm; he’s the one who was actually hurt. He says he’s fine; his head is still attached. She thanks him for picking her up  and getting her home. He says he can help her clean up, but she says that won’t be necessary. She has no home to go to. She’s surprised he wasn’t notified that the building was destroyed. He says he’s sorry, but she says the story has a happy ending. She’s moving in with the Quartermaines. His grandmother wouldn’t take no for an answer. Monica says she’s invited Nelle to live with them. Nelle hugs Michael.

Sam tells Drew it’s Danny’s dog tag that he ordered for Annabelle II. Jason says in all the craziness, it ended up in his pocket. He’s glad Drew is okay, and Drew says, same to him. Jason leaves, and Drew asks Sam if everything is okay. Sam says when they get home, they need to talk.

Tomorrow, Jason wants to draw out Henrik. Sonny tells Mike he’s not himself, and Franco confronts Scotty.

🔪 Since I had to do some work for my paying job, I missed most of the finale for Top Chef. However, I managed to catch the end, and Last Chance Kitchen Joe won the honors. It just goes to show you, never give up.

⏰ I did catch a late-night mini marathon of Don’t Be Tardy, which I haven’t seen in a while. While I’m not crazy about Kim Zolciak, and her daughters seem dumb as rocks, I do like this show. I love her chef, Tracey, who is a total looney-tune, and the tone isn’t mean-spirited. Not nearly as good as Sweet Home Oklahoma (when’s that show coming back?), but a nice break from housewives, summer houses, and real estate.

SmileyConfusedMA36106495-0001 Elizabeth Hurley was a guest on tonight’s Watch What Happens Live, and seemed to have spilled some spicy tea. Apparently, she’s close friends with Victoria Beckham (who I love), and said that another Spice Girls reunion was a go. Maybe I’m behind, but last I read, it was a no. I have mad love for The Spices, and have seen them twice. Yeah, I know, but I love all genres of music (well, maybe not that experimental John Cage type stuff), and I think they arrived at a time when they were needed. They were the bubblegum of the 90s, and a sigh of relief after the angst of Kurt Cobain’s death. I saw them both times in 2008, during their last reunion tour. Back in the day, I went to a lot of concerts, but like Broadway, ticket prices have skyrocketed. Hell, movies are borderline unaffordable. Thank God there’s a dollar store in the mall, because I’m not taking out a second mortgage to buy a box of M&Ms. But as usual, I digress. I try to choose wisely who picks my entertainment budget pocket, and they didn’t disappoint. I felt like I got my money’s worth. Lots of costume changes, big sets, special f/x, and all the songs. And the girls really are good singers too, despite so many people poking fun at them. I’m sure they cry all the way to the bank. I’ve also enjoyed many of their solo efforts. Geri Halliwell is especially impressive. And dare I say it? IMO, Mel C does a better rendition of Like a Prayer than Madonna.

😩 I’m seriously growing weary of moments, movements, and international anything days.

General Hospital

Carly takes pictures of Oscar and Josslyn. She says they’ll be grateful when they’re older, and insists on Jason taking one with her in it. She leads Oscar away for a chat, and Josslyn is understandably mortified.

Sam and Drew make out at the dance, because they’re suddenly fourteen again. Lulu talks to Kim about the reason for the party, and Kim says it’s ultimately for the kids to just be themselves.

At the gallery, Nelle asks Michael if he’s listening. He says he was miles away, thinking about the future. The baby’s and theirs.

Curtis does push-ups in his cell. Jordan comes by, and he asks if she has any idea when her man is getting out of the clink. She says it’s beyond her control. He suggests she do something that is in her control, like tailing Jim and finding out what his plans are for Port Charles before it’s too late.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth that no one’s heard from Franco. Elizabeth checks her phone, and says, nothing. Epiphany says he’s not actually late yet. No need to panic… yet.

Franco insists Jim tell him what happened. Jim says he got himself riled over nothing. They were just little kids. Franco says his whole life he’s felt unraveled, but Jim thinks he’s making his own misery. He’s healthy, gainfully employed, and has a woman who loves him waiting at the church; isn’t it enough? Franco says when he stands next to Elizabeth, he wants to be the best possible human he can be. He wants to know what happened. Jim tells him to be careful what he wishes for. What if he digs for clues that don’t exist, and it ends up costing him everything he has?

On the phone, Valentin tells Nina not to rush. He’s at the restaurant and will grab a table. Peter approaches him, and asks if Valentin knew his father was sick. Valentin says a pigeon could tell he was deranged. Peter says he had a brain disease, and there’s a 50% chance it got passed on to him.

Carly interrogates Oscar. Among her many questions, she slips in asking if they stocked up on wine coolers. She tells him no drinking, or no him and Josslyn.

Josslyn tells Jason that she has it easy compared to Michael. She thinks he’d be happier if they’re mom laid off of him. He and Nelle are having a baby, and it would be better if they were together. Josslyn says her mom thinks she can run their lives better than they can, and Jason tells her that she sounds like her mom. She says it doesn’t make her wrong. Nelle did some spectacularly stupid stuff, but it doesn’t make her a bad person. Carly comes back, and tells Josslyn to post lots of pictures – on her real account, not the fake one she created for Carly to follow. Josslyn and Oscar leave. Jason says Josslyn seems to like her dress. Carly says she loves it, and when she wants something, she’s relentless. Jason gives her a look, and she says she knows. That’s what scares her. The dress is okay, but nothing spectacular like I expected. It’s kind of like the first dress Carly nixed, but off-white and patterned.

Michael tells Nelle that spending the day with his grandfather got him thinking. Mike isn’t doing so well. Nelle says she’s sorry, and she’s there for him. He says she can’t promise that; no one can. They have to think about what would happen to their child if they die or are incapacitated. When he saw his dad with his grandfather, he realized they can’t put it off. They have to choose who takes care of their child if something happens to them. Nelle says she has no family, which leaves his. She hopes he isn’t suggesting they give the baby to his mom. He says he has someone else in mind.

Epiphany asks if Elizabeth is sure she’s ready to marry someone who self-sabotages. Elizabeth says Franco doesn’t think he deserves the things he wants, but believes he’ll learn to trust himself. Scotty pops in, saying the guests are getting restless. Epiphany says they can’t start without Franco, and asks if Scotty has any idea where he is. Scotty says he’s not Franco’s wrangler. Epiphany says, no, but he’s Franco’s dad and best man. Scotty says he’ll find him.

Franco wants Jim to tell him what happened. Jim says he and Betsy weren’t together that long, but he cared for her, and could catch flak for this. Franco says the only person Jim has to worry about is him. If Jim doesn’t tell him, there’s going to be trouble. Jim says, not for him, just for Franco. He was there when Andy took a header down the stairs.

Lulu talks to the kids, saying she’s writing a piece for the Port Charles Press. What they’re doing deserves exposure. Oscar says they just want to have fun. They’re tired of the antiquated rules, and wanted an alternative where everyone can feel safe and welcome. A boy walks in who looks like trouble.

Franco calls Jim a liar, and says he wasn’t there. Jim says he was, and the lie was the lesser of two evils. Franco should be grateful that he had a good life. What if Jim wasn’t so discreet? Franco asks what he’s talking about. Jim says Franco remembers, but Franco says not all of it. Does Jim think he’d be there if he did? Jim says he’s just not man enough to admit it, and he’s making him do all the work. Don’t say he didn’t warn him. Franco tried to kill Andy.

Jordan asks if Curtis is going to tell her next that the moon landing didn’t happen, and to let go of the conspiracy theories. He can speculate all he wants, but without legal evidence, how can he prove it? He says he’ll do the speculating. Jim shows up, buys up most of Charles Street, and throws money at one of the candidates who supports his plan. Then, there’s a sudden spike in crime and the quality of life goes down. Jordan says it drives down the property values, he buys cheap, the redevelopment passes, and construction begins. Curtis says he promised the neighborhood an arena and condos, but he has something else planned. Curtis says, it’s bigger than him; it’s about the community. They need to do something before it’s too late.

Carly tells Jason that Josslyn isn’t afraid to dream big and go after her dreams. She thinks about the awful things she did when she was just a little older, and what would have happened if not for him. He says she would have figured it out on her own. She says, or turned out like Nelle, incapable of taking responsibility for anything. She tells Jason that everyone thinks he’s too easy on her, and so do I. It ticks me off how she keeps saying Nelle is just like she was, but won’t help her or cut her some slack. Jason doesn’t care what everyone else thinks. She’s a great mom, and Josslyn is turning into a great person. She’ll make mistakes, but they have to be hers. That’s how Carly is different from Nelle; she learns from her mistakes, and Nelle doesn’t. He gets a call, and has to go.

Nina tells Carly that she saw Josslyn’s Instagram post, and her dress is spectacular. They have one like it in the Crimson closet, but the design isn’t coming out until fall. She wonders how Josslyn got the dress, and Carly says Nelle gave it to her. She claimed she got it from a runway show Nina sent her to. Nina says she never sent Nelle to a runway show, and Carly tells her to check if the dress is still in the closet.

The kids dance, and the troublesome dude walks around scowling. He takes out a… tomato? He yells, freeze, and throws it. It’s a paintball, and hits Josslyn’s dress smack in the middle. Oscar takes him down. Drew intervenes.

Drew tells the kid he’s lucky he’s not calling the cops, and to get out. Drew tells Oscar it’s over, and he’s okay; don’t let him win. He needs to get the momentum at the dance back up. Kim thanks Drew for stepping in before it got out of control. He claims he’s just doing his job as a chaperone.

Josslyn says she’s okay, just stained. Lulu says, sorry, but it’s not coming out. One of the genderfluid kids says he was aiming for them. Josslyn says he has worse issues than his batting accuracy. She can’t believe he ruined the dance, but it’s agreed her dress looks kind of cool, and she calls it Jackson Pollocky. Drew asks if Sam can dance in the shoes she’s wearing. They need to get the party back on track.

Peter tells Valentin that with Huntington’s disease, you go insane, lose you motor skills, and die. Yikes. He says it manifests itself between the ages of thirty and fifty. Valentin says his father was definitely insane, and asks if Peter is going to get tested. He’s not sure if he wants to know, but Valentin encourages him to do it. Peter says his father also left a will. Drew and Jason are beneficiaries, and Faison left them a way to identify him, but it can only be accessed if one of them dies. Valentin says they hate each other, but hate Faison more. He asks if there were other beneficiaries, and Peter says the bulk of the estate was left to his son. Nina suddenly appears, and says he was a sick freak.

Nelle asks the baby if daddy scared it. She says he’s just being responsible, and at least he agreed not to give the baby to Carly. Carly won’t be an option by the time the baby is born though. By the time mommy is done with granny, she won’t be fit to raise a Chia Pet. Carly walks in, and asks if Nelle is talking to herself? It makes her sound crazy.

Jason meets Michael at the mansion. Michael tells him that he and Nelle are getting things ready for the baby in advance. Jason tells him to enjoy sleeping in unstained clothing while he can. Michael tells Jason that they’d like him to take care of baby if anything happens to the both of them. There’s no one he trusts more, unless asking too much, Jason says he’d be honored.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth that they’re officially running behind. Scotty says he checked everyone with a pulse at the hospital, and there’s no sign. Epiphany asks, what about the studio, and he says he’ll check there. Elizabeth says he doesn’t need to do that. If Franco was late, he would have called. He’s not there because, whatever his reason, he chose not to be. The wedding is off.

Franco says, that’s not what happened, and Jim says, yes it. He saw it unfold from start to finish. He was watching the boys, and realized he hadn’t heard a peep for a while. He saw Franco at the top of the steps, and had a smirk like he was ready to show off. One second, Andy was standing on the steps, and the next he wasn’t. He’ll never forget the sound of him hitting the basement floor.

Drew and Sam show off their dancing skills to the amazement of the kids. When they’re finished, Sam’s phone dings, and she tells Drew she has to pick up the kids, but he should stay.

Nelle warned Carly about calling her crazy. Carly asks what she’s going to do, take another swing at her or whine to Monica? Nelle says Monica cares about the baby; she doesn’t. Carly accuses her of using Monica and Josslyn. Nelle asks if she can’t be friends with her baby’s aunt. Carly says she’s only using Josslyn to get to Michael, and it ends now.

Elizabeth says she’s going to make an announcement, but doesn’t want the boys there. Epiphany says she’ll take them, but it’s still early. Does she want her to stay? Elizabeth says she’s a big girl, and can handle herself. Epiphany has no doubt, and says her no good fiancé better hope she forgives him before they cross paths. Scotty says the subways are more dependable than his son. He hasn’t been right since the Drew and Jason stuff came out.

Jordan tells Curtis that he’s not the only one doing some investigating. She put in a call to a professor at PCU. She wants a geologist’s opinion. With any luck, they’ll have more insight. They’ll know Jim’s plans for Port Charles by this time tomorrow.

Jim says Franco wanted to know, and now he does. Jim tells Franco that he’s been in hell, holding it in all these years. He promised Betsy that he’d never contradict her story, but here he is breaking his promise. I roll my eyes. Franco says, better late than never. Jim says no one else needs to know. Not Drew or his wife.

Michael asks Jason how many pictures his mom took of Josslyn and her date, and Jason says, a lot. Michael remembers dying of embarrassment, but sees things now from a different perspective, and wants to preserve the moments. He’s looked at his baby’s sonogram a million times. By the time his child is one, he’ll have taken the most photos in history. Jason talks about taking a picture of Michael each day when Carly was away. Sam comes in to pick up the kids, and Michael leaves. Sam asks if Jason wants to say goodnight to Danny before she takes him home.

Kim says Drew’s still got moves. She’s seen it before once or twice. It reminded her of a night in a packed bar when, dressed in his Navy blues, he served it up during What a Feeling. Josslyn and Oscar slip out of the dance.

Carly tells Nelle that she doesn’t learn from her mistakes. She lies, manipulates, and it blows up in her face. Then she dos it again. Like the dress charade with Josslyn. She stole the dress from Crimson’s closet, and gave it to Josslyn like it was hers. Nina say she has a four-figure bill coming her way. Nelle says Crimson has a million dresses, and what difference does it make if she took one for Josslyn. Carly says she didn’t do it for Josslyn. It was trashy and pathetic, just like her.

Scotty tells Elizbeth it’s Doc’s fault. If Franco had listened to him, and not let Doc into his head, none of this would have happened. Elizabeth says she encouraged him. He says with all due respect, that was misguided. Now Franco has lost the best thing that would have happened to him because he couldn’t keep a secret. Elizabeth asks what secret, and Scotty backtracks, saying he meant a secret feeling that he couldn’t keep to himself. He asks if she wants him to tell everyone, and she says she’ll do it. They’re her guests.

Jim says he won’t repeat it to anyone, and advises Franco to do the same. Franco says he can’t live with himself if he doesn’t, and Jim says if Drew finds out, he’ll be coming for him. What if Elizabeth learns what he’s capable of doing? What would stop him from sending one of her kids down the stairs. Franco says he’d never harm them. Since the tumor was removed, he’s been able to control his violent impulses. Jim asks if the tumor was there back then. Maybe it just enhanced what’s innate, and he was born bad.

Nina thinks any money Faison left should go to Maxie. Valentin says they’ll make sure she never wants for anything. Nina says it won’t replace her husband. Peter says Maxie has a strong support system, but Nina tells him it won’t bring back Maxie’s husband or her child’s father.

Elizabeth sighs and looks at her ring. She remembers Franco proposing, and we flash back to that. She says, time to call off the wedding.

Jim tells Franco to Imagine the effect on Elizabeth. Every day the nagging doubts wearing her down until she walks away. He doesn’t have to lose her; she doesn’t have to know. Franco asks why he cares. Jim says he’s trying to save him from himself. Franco says, you know what he thinks? He thinks nothing Jim says is true. He doesn’t think it happened that way. He thinks Jim is lying.

Jordan tells Curtis that she’ll let him know what the professor says. She gives him a kiss through the bars, and tells him to stay warm.

Nelle says Nina doesn’t know how to answer a phone. She hardly knows what’s in the closet. Carly is reaching. She’s desperate, and scared. All these years, holding Michael under her thumb, and now it’s going to bite her. She’s going to drive him away, and into Nelle’s arms.

Sam tells Jason he should feel honored that Danny will sleep at his place. He wonders if he should let Danny bring the dog, but Sam says if he does, she’ll never get Danny out.

Oscar and Josslyn go into the walk-in freezer. They kiss, and the lights go out. Everything starts to shake. The freezer door slams shut. We see the Floating Rib, the Quartermaine mansion, all over Port Charles, and how the entire town is shaking. Everyone runs for cover, and dives under things.

On Monday, there goes the neighborhood.

😶 Useless information: I’m pretty sure Nelle’s backstory about possibly killing her fiancé by pulling the plug in his kayak (come on, it even sounds ridiculous), was taken from the real life story of Angelika Graswold. I recently watched an old Dateline or 20/20 that covered the story. Even though Angelika pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, they proved on the show that removing the plug would do virtually nothing.

🍨 MasterChef Junior was back tonight, with the girls cooking filet mignon, and the boys making a chicken dish. As usual, I was hypnotized and amazed by the cooking skills of kids who could be my grandchildren… almost. One kid committed the worst cooking sin ever – raw chicken. I have always cooked the crap out of chicken to avoid this. Eight kids each from both groups were chosen to receive aprons and continue on.

🏰 I missed the first episode of the last season of Once Upon a Time, as well as tonight’s, but hope to catch up On Demand and do a mini-recap. It’s hard to invest when you know it’s going to disappear, poof! in a puff of multi-colored smoke. It was inevitable once they took the Friday death knell spot.

🐹 Some Digression… 

🍴 I’m loving Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block (watching it right now On Demand), but I consistently get the two main characters mixed up because the actresses look very much alike. They’re supposed to be sisters, so nothing strange about that, but it got me thinking about Samuel L. Jackson. How did I make that jump? Thanks for asking. Samuel apparently got pretty pissed at a news anchor who mixed him up with Laurence Fishburne, asking if the dude thought all Black people look alike. Well, I know I don’t, but I also mix them up. Because sometimes two people do look alike. I’ve mixed up Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall too. I’ve even confused Glenn Close with Meryl Streep. Does this make me some kind of bigot offshoot who thinks all actors look alike? Sometimes over-sensitivity annoys me.

General Hospital

Julian approaches Kim and Oscar at the hospital. Kim says she wasn’t expecting to see him there, and he says he wasn’t expecting sewage backup at the restaurant. He’s sorry, but he can’t host the party there. Oscar says he can’t cancel, but Kim tells him Julian has no control over it. Julian says the only people who will be in the pub tonight are from Hazmat. Oscar thinks there’s no way they can find another place in the next two hours. Apparently, he didn’t read my list from yesterday.

The sliding doors in the hospital are so loud, I don’t hear what Anna is saying on the phone as she goes through them. She tells Andre that she has the itinerary confirmed, and thanks him for going with her. Finn sees her, and says they’re supposed to be at the station shortly. It’s not every day someone like him is recognized by the WSB. Anna says before they go, there’s something he should know.

At the station, Jim says Curtis is the guy who broke in. Jordan says that’s an incendiary statement, and Curtis is an associate of the department. Since they have the same last name, Jim asks if they’re related, and Jordan says Curtis is her former brother-in-law. He gripes about nepotism, and asks where the maps came from.

Griff tells Ava that it’s incredible Sonny agreed to let Avery visit. Griff calls her gracious for helping Sonny’s father, but she says he was just confused. Ava was tempted to bail on the wedding, since it’s cutting into her time with Avery, but promised Franco she’d be there. Griff tells her that he knows she’s worried that people won’t see who she really is, but her kindness and generosity show.

Epiphany says Elizabeth looks flawless. She asks if Elizabeth is nervous, but Elizabeth says she’s never been more sure about anything. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Kiki and Felix with champagne.

Franco sees Drew in the hospital stairwell. He asks Drew to wait. They stand in the same position they were in on the stairs as children, and Franco flashes back to that. He nearly passes out. Drew asks what’s wrong, and Franco starts to cry and hyperventilate. Drew tells him to breathe, and asks what happening. Does he have the jitters? Franco says no, he remembers, and blows past Drew. Drew asks, what does he remember?

Cameron tells Doc that Franco’s car isn’t there, and he’s not answering his phone. Doc says he’s probably running late. Cameron says Franco marrying his mom is a big deal. She deserves to be happier than anyone, and he needs to know that.

Felix suggests they get the party started. Epiphany says since Elizabeth refused to let them throw the bachelorette party she deserved, they’re at least having some champagne. Felix says she denied him the night of debauchery he wanted to plan, but she can’t deny him a toast with his best friend. Elizabeth thanks Kiki for supporting the relationship, and helping her decipher what’s in Franco’s brain. Kiki admits she does speak excellent Franco. They toast to Elizabeth’s happiness.

Kim tells Oscar it’s not impossible. Julian says he asked around, but the entire block is affected. Oscar says it’s too late for the MetroCourt ballroom. Kim suggests the park, and says the kids can take turns being DJ, but Oscar says the kids just want to dance. I’m not sure why this is a problem, since they could just hook up an iPod.

At the church, Scotty says, here’s Ava and her gigolo, and Griff is like, what? Scotty asks if he’s her plus one, or is he performing the ceremony? Ava tells him that no one is appreciating his meager attempt at humor, and he says he’ll refrain from the defrocking jokes. Griff leaves to say a prayer before the ceremony. Scotty asks Ava if smoke appears when they get down to business. She tells him to knock it off, and he asks what about fun? Griff has no personality. Ava says he’s wonderful, and Scotty says if she’s happy, he’s happy. Maybe Griff will make an honest woman of her. She hopes so.

Jim says Curtis had copies of his maps printed out from when he broke in. Curtis says he doesn’t know what Jim is talking about. Jim says there were witnesses, and asks Jordan to hold him for questioning. Jordan says she needs hard evidence, and he says he has security footage. He’s friends with the new mayor, and asks if she’s going to do her job or does he have to demand she be fired? Ugh. He’s like one of those people who moves into your neighborhood and tries to take over.

Doc sees Scotty, who asks if he’s going to congratulate the father of the groom or just hate him? Doc asks what gave it away? When he punched Scotty for sleeping with his wife? Scotty says Doc is sleeping with his wife now, and Doc says ex-wife. Scotty heard his son is seeing Doc, and says sometimes things should stay buried. Doc says he can’t discuss patients. Scotty says Franco had a rough childhood, and asks if it ever occurred to Doc why some memories are blocked?

Drew asks Franco what he remembers, and Franco says they were little kids. Drew’s phone rings. He tells Franco to catch his breath. It’s Kim on the phone. She needs to talk to Drew, and he tells her he’s still at the hospital and will be right there. He asks Franco if they’re good and if he’s okay, and goes back upstairs. Franco remembers them being on Betsy’s stairs. Drew is at the bottom, and Franco shakes him and calls his name. We hear a voice saying, what did you do, Bobby? Franco says someone else was there. That sure sounded like Jim’s voice.

Jordan asks Jim if anything was stolen during the alleged break-in. He tells her the maps are proprietary information, and she says anyone at the worksite could have made a copy. She rolls up the maps, and hands them to him. She tells him that if he does press charges, the paperwork and court appearances will be nothing but a headache for him. He says he needs to protect his interests, and it could be corporate sabotage, and what if Curtis sells a map to competitor? Jordan asks for Curtis’s phone, and tells him to delete the pictures. He does, and she says, there you go. Now his company isn’t at risk. She asks Jim how he wants to play it, and he tells her breaking and entering is still a crime; lock him up. She tells Curtis he’s under arrest, and gives him his rights.

Finn says it must be serious for Anna to come there. Anna says it’s nothing; she didn’t mean for it to seem dire. Robert told Mac about them getting the awards. The ceremony isn’t open to the public, and Mac wanted to give them a celebration. He wouldn’t take no for answer. If Finn wants to bring date, they wouldn’t mind, so he can bring Alexis. He says that’s a moot point. He’s not going unless she can think of a reason why he should.

Oscar literally bumps into Finn. He apologizes, saying he was concentrating on finding a venue for their alternative dance. Finn asks, alternative to what, and Oscar explains that the biggest dance at school has a dress code that isn’t gender fluid friendly. Julian had offered Charlie’s, but there’s a situation with a broken sewer pipe. Anna thinks maybe she can help, and Finn tells Oscar that she’s usually two steps ahead of us mortals. Anna calls Mac.

Julian texts Ava, telling Kim that she owes him a few. Kim thanks him for being good to the kids, and he says he’s the one who disappointed them in the first place. She refuses to let him own this one; he’s not responsible for an act of God. He says if that’s what she wants to call it when things come out of nowhere.

Kiki says she’ll check on the groom, and Epiphany goes with her. Elizabeth thanks Felix, who says it’s nothing compared to bachelorette party he wanted. She says there’s a reason she didn’t. She knows her friends had reservations about Franco, and didn’t want to put them in an awkward position. Felix says Franco isn’t his favorite person, but she is, and being a friend doesn’t mean always seeing things the same way. They need to trust each other, even when it doesn’t make sense. He trusts her, and knows there’s good in Franco or she wouldn’t have offered him her heart. He tells her not to cry. Puffy eyes in the photos would be a tragedy.

Jim goes to his office. Franco says, hello, startling Jim, but I figured he was there. Franco says it’s about time he showed up.

Jordan joins Curtis in the interrogation room. Curtis says Jim is gone, she can let him go, but she says witnesses just saw her arrest him. She asks what he was thinking. He says they can’t find Betsy, and she wonders how that’s related to Charles Street. He says the maps have nothing to do with the construction. She asks him to tell her what’s going on.

Drew sees Kim, who tells him that he’s off the hook. There’s no dance tonight; the venue fell through. Drew glares at Julian, who says it’s out of his hands. He’s going to be cleaning up sewage in the kitchen. Drew says it’s a shame; Oscar was looking forward to it. Julian always finds a way to let people down. At this point, I borderline don’t like Drew very much. Julian leaves to make more calls. Kim tells Drew that was a little harsh, and Drew says, trust him, Julian deserves it. She doesn’t know their history, but says he was just trying to help. Drew apologizes, saying he’s in a bad mood. He had a run in with Franco on the stairs, and he was even weirder than usual. Kim says he’s getting married; maybe he’s just nervous. Drew says maybe he’s reading too much into it, but he and Franco were raised as brothers when they were kids. He was sent to a state home, and doesn’t know why. The only person who can help is Franco’s mother, but she disappeared. He asks her if he ever talked about his childhood when they were together, and she says he kind of lived in the moment. Neither one of them reminisced. She knew he grew up in a group home, but he only wanted to talk about certain things.

Doc tells Scotty that he can’t confirm or deny Franco is his patient, but that being said, he would never press a patient to endanger their mental health. Scotty says if anything Doc says or does causes Franco to snap, he’s going to hold him personally responsible. Epiphany comes out, and asks if they’ve seen the groom.

Jim says Franco almost gave him a heart attack. Franco wanted to see him, and he’s always here. Jim says no wonder it’s a match made in heaven. Last night Elizabeth was lying in wait, asking him about tracking down Franco’s mother. Franco says that’s not why he’s here. Jim says he knows Franco doesn’t remember him, but thinks Betsy would kill him if didn’t get to the church on time. He’s calling his car service. Franco says no one is going anywhere until Jim tells him why Betsy sent Drew away.

Kim tells Drew that he was fine talking about high school, and things like track and detention, but when it came to family, he didn’t want to talk about it. It’s understandable, and maybe if they’d had more time, he would have opened up. Drew says, but they didn’t and here they are. Oscar runs up to them, and says he found a new venue.

Finn tells Anna the ceremony was a little surreal. She says if you stay long enough at the WSB, they recognize you in one way or another. He says for him it was a one-shot deal. She tells him that his contribution was invaluable. Cassandra had to be stopped, and she couldn’t have done it without him. He thanks her for saving him from the party, and says the kids will enjoy it more than him. He hates bullies. She says that’s why they make a good team, at least in the eyes of the bureau. Andre calls, and Anna tells him to meet her at seven.

Elizabeth asks if Cameron is nervous. He says all that matters to Jake is that Franco will be part of the family, and Aiden only knows it’s a big party. He’s glad she found someone to love her and put her first, which is a very mature statement for a kid. She tells him to find Aiden before his brother starts playing Frisbee with the ring pillow. She tells Felix that Cameron is so grown up, and they wonder where the time went. She wishes Sabrrrina could be there. She didn’t judge Elizabeth for being with Franco, and would be happy for them. Felix says what she loved even more than them is weddings. Elizabeth can honor her by having an amazing time. Elizabeth thinks back to exchanging I love yous with Franco.

Jim tells Franco that he doesn’t know why Betsy gave Andy away. Franco says Betsy didn’t tell him that; she told him Drew was dead. Jim says he doesn’t know why she misled them, but they were at each other’s throats, and Franco could get rough. Franco says he remembers.

Curtis tells Jordan that he knows a thing or two about thing or two. One of the maps has the Charles Street acquisitions, and the other is the earth under the properties. There’s no reason to explore that deep just to build condos. Jim has other plans for Charles Street, and is after whatever is underneath. Eterna? (One Life to Live fans will understand that reference.)

Kiki sees Ava. Griff comes out and tells Ava that he said a prayer for Elizabeth and Franco, and one for her too – for gratitude that Sonny is letting Avery spend time with her. He says God works in mysterious ways, and wanders off to do whatever ex-priests do at church. Kiki says he doesn’t know she made a deal with the devil to get Avery for the night. Ava says she dropped the charges, and it was Sonny’s decision, but he should have done it straight away without her asking. Kiki says she blackmailed him, and Ava says she did what any mother would do. Kiki says, no, she did what she would do.

Anna talks to Andre about going to the airport together. Finn asks if they’re going on a trip. She says it isn’t anything, and he says she doesn’t owe him any explanation. He tells her to have a nice trip and leave.

Oscar tells Kim that the Floating Rib had been closed for a private party, but Anna talked to them and the kids can use it. Kim tells him to make sure to give Mac and Felicia a proper thank you. Julian says he’ll help bring the decorations over, and leaves with Oscar. Kim tells Drew he’s back on the hook. She’s sorry she couldn’t be more help. She can’t imagine how frustrating it must be, trying to remember. He says too bad he can’t trust the only person who might anything.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth not to put her dress on. Franco hasn’t shown up yet.

Franco tells Jim that ever since he was told he pushed Drew down a flight of stairs, he’s been trying to remember. Jim says maybe that’s why he was sent away. Franco suggests Jim tell him what he remembers, but Jim insists he doesn’t remember anything. Whatever happened was after he was out of the picture.

Franco flashes back to shaking Drew at the bottom of the stairs. He hears, look what you did, Bobby. Jim stands on the stairs.

Franco tells Jim that he’s lying. He was there.

Jordan asks Curtis what he thinks Jim’s plans are, but he doesn’t know. He already suspected it’s politically motivated. Niagara Equities would have lost a fortune if Ned didn’t win. Jordan is going to call Alexis and get Curtis out, but he has another idea. He’s already behind bars, so Jim thinks he’s in the clear. Jordan says, so he might make a mistake. Curtis says he’s not in a position to catch Jim making one, but she is.

Franco says he’s been working hard to try and remember what happened that night. Now he knows what Jim knows. Jim gets flustered, and says he doesn’t know what happened to Andy, let alone him being pushed. Franco says he’s lying. He was there. He remembers what happened, and no one is leaving until he hears Jim say it.

Tomorrow, Nelle asks if Michael is suggesting they give the baby to his mom, Elizabeth says the wedding is off, and Lulu thinks the alternative dance should have some exposure.

🎣 The contestants on Top Chef did some fishing in Aspen, having to first catch the meal they were going to cook. The dishes looked so good, I almost couldn’t stand it, but they were nothing in comparison to what was created for the chefs and connoisseurs attending the Food & Wine Classic. And they had to cook for two hundred people. Last Chance Kitchen Joe went on to the finale, along with Adrienne, and Mustache Joe had to pack his knives and go. He was still pleased he ended up in third place, and thought maybe he’d do even better. I agree. Just ask Jennifer Hudson. Next week – the finale.

General Hospital

Michael tells Mike a funny story about Morgan. Mike is sorry he didn’t get more time with him. Michael says he has more stories if Mike is sticking around, but Mike says he has a sweetheart waiting for him back home. Michael assumes Mike got a clean bill of health, and Sonny says he still has a follow-up. Mike says, he’ll be fine, and don’t worry.

Griff looks over Mike’s test results.

Nelle gives Ava a box of chocolates, thinking she could use a pick-me-up. Ava says she tries not to eat her feelings, and tells Nelle to enjoy them. Griff calls; he wanted to hear Ava’s voice, and misses her. He’s sorry about Valentine’s Day, but she says it’s not the day that’s important; it’s him. After she hangs up, Ava asks Nelle for the candy back, and shovels some into her mouth.

Carly tells Nina that she’s sorry about the office being like this. They couldn’t get in during the investigation. She’ll have the carpet replaced. Nina asks her to do it quickly. She wants all traces of blood removed. Maxie walks in.

Jason visits Sam’s office. He tells her that he couldn’t find Drew, and Sam says he’s at a meeting. Jason wants to talk about the Port Charles Press. Peter comes in, saying sorry to interrupt, but Sam says his timing is perfect. Jason has questions about the PC Press. Jason asks what about running an article on Faison’s will.

Brad meets with Alexis. He tells her that Lucas had an emergency surgery, and couldn’t make it.

Nelle looks at a sculpture at the gallery, and says she could use a statement piece for her apartment. Ava says it will look great in the place Michael is selling out from under her. Nelle says she has an upgrade coming, and it’s going to be a mansion next. She tells Ava about Monica inviting her to watch the election returns, and how everyone was happy and hugging. Ava says she’s practically part of the family. Nelle says not yet, but soon. Ava tells her to be careful and not to get over-confident. It’s one thing to be friends with Monica, but another to lure Michael from Carly’s clutches. Nelle says she’s going to be firmly back by Michael’s side, with Carly nowhere to be found. Michael walks in.

Maxie tells Nina sorry she’s late. Nina asks what she’s doing there, and she says, working? (This brings to mind when I walked to my first NYC job during what the city considers a blizzard. There were only two people at the office, and they asked what I was doing there. I said, coming to work? Being from Ohio, and never even having had a snow day, it wouldn’t have occurred to me not to show up.) Nina says she didn’t expect Maxie back so soon, and Maxie tells her to consider it a happy surprise. They’re behind, and reinforcements have arrived. She can’t stay in her apartment forever, so they’re both winning. Carly tells Maxie how sorry she is, and asks if there’s anything she can do. Maxie suggests some coffee, and Carly goes to get it. Nina tells Maxie she needs more time. Maxie asks for what, and Nina says processing what happened and grieving. Maxie says Nina lost Nathan too, but she’s at work. She asks if Nina thinks she’s more fragile because she’s pregnant, and not to be like everyone else, telling her what she needs. What she needs is to get back to work, and forget about the gaping hole in her life. She sees where the blood stain is covered with a cloth, and Nina makes up something about dropping her breakfast.

Sam is surprised at the idea of Jason wanting to publish anything, but he thinks it’s their best shot at finding Henrik. He tells Peter about him and Drew being beneficiaries in Faison’s will. Peter says it makes no sense. Jason says he turned their world upside down, and he’s not done yet. In order for one to claim what was left to them, the other has to die. Peter wonders what Faison could possibly offer that was worth it. Sam says Drew would get his memories back. Peter asks what Faison dangled in front of Jason, and Jason says, his son.

Sonny paces in Griff’s office. Mike tells him to take a walk. Sonny says he’s worried about Michael, and Mike says his son can take care of himself and so can his father. This fidgeting is driving him nuts. Griff comes in, and says he looked at Mike’s MRI and PET scan. They can rule out a stroke, and a number of other degenerative conditions. All but one. Scans don’t tell whole story, but coupled with the other factors, Mike has Alzheimer’s.

Carly stops by Brad’s table, and he tells her that they’re talking about the adoption. She says good luck, and he asks her to join them. He could use her input. She says adoption is a personal thing, but he says, please, and she sits. Alexis has good news. There’s a prospective mother who’s seriously considering letting them adopt her baby. The catch is that the mother insists on a semi-open adoption, and to remain anonymous.

Michael asks Nelle, what about his mother? Nelle tells him that she was saying she hopes his mom is nowhere near the childbirth class. He doesn’t think that will be a problem. Nelle thanks Ava for giving her time off and being supportive, and leaves with Michael.

Mike asks Griff what is it called again? and then tells him that he’s joking. Sonny doesn’t think it’s funny. Mike says he doesn’t have Alzheimer’s like Sonny has no sense of humor. He says he can go to ten different doctors, and get ten different opinions. Sonny says Griff is the best neurosurgeon there is. Mike says he knows you can’t really tell if someone has the disease until after they’re dead. Griff says that’s true, but the protocol for the diagnosis is sound; it’s been honed for decades. Mike tells him to keep on honing, and starts to leave. Sonny says he’s not going anywhere.

Maxie thinks the layout needs something. Her phone dings. She looks at it, and continues what she’s doing. It’s dings again, and she asks Nina if she knows how to turn off notifications. Nina asks if she needs to be somewhere, and Maxie tells her that it’s an appointment made months ago. She throws the phone across the room, then says, sorry. Nina tells her don’t ever be sorry, throws her own phone across the room, and says, there! Maxie laughs, and Nina asks what the appointment was. Maxie says childbirth class starts today.

Peter says Faison set the will up to mess with them; don’t play his game. Jason says he needs to find Henrik, who was involved in the memory mapping. Peter asks where the will comes in, and Jason says he left his estate to his son. He didn’t specify which one, and they believed it was Nathan, but it could draw Henrik out of hiding. Peter says he could get his answers, but Jason says he doesn’t need them. He’s curious as to why Henrik kept him alive, but it won’t give him back the five years, and won’t change anything. It could change everything for Drew though.

Brad says, so the mother gets all the information she wants, but leaves them totally in the dark, and has the right to show up one day. Alexis says that’s the open part. She tells him to mull it over, but the mother has asked that it be squared away as quickly as possible. Alexis leaves to do I don’t know what, and Brad asks what Carly thinks. She thinks she would have serious reservations if she were him.

Maxie tells Nina that Nathan signed them up. He was giddy about being her coach, and now she can’t believe she has to do this alone. Nina asks what time the class is, and Maxie tells her twenty minutes. Nina says let’s go. Maxie says she can’t ask Nina to do that, and Nina says she’s not asking. The issue is already late, and there are more important things at play, like her niece or nephew’s birth. She wants to do this. Maxie says she can call her mom, but Nina says, it’s Nina or bust. She wants to do it; she needs something to do. Maxie says it will be helping Nina as much as Nina is helping her.

Jason tells Peter the bottom line is Henrik is still alive. He could have a solid lead, and is worth drawing out. Sam asks what if it has the opposite effect, and makes him run? They should sit back and wait. He kept Jason alive for five years, and he’s here. If that doesn’t bring him out, she doesn’t know what will, now that Faison is dead. Peter leaves to take a call. Jason asks why not run the article?

Sonny says he’s not an expert, but trusts Griff 100%. It’s more than Mike being his father. Something is off, and it makes sense. It explains the missing money, the wandering, and what happened at Kelly’s. Mike tries to make it sound like he’s just getting old and forgetful, but Sonny says it’s beyond forgetting. Mike says Sonny wants him to be sick, and paid for a fake diagnosis. He wants to get rid of him for good. Mike tells Griff that he messed up bad when Sonny was a kid. Sonny says that’s got nothing to do with it. Mike says  the hell it doesn’t, and asks Griff if everything is confidential. He tells them not a word to anyone. Sonny asks where he’s going, and Mike says to find better company; someone who actually gives a damn.

Epiphany welcomes everyone to childbirth class. She sees they have a full house. Maxie sees Nelle with Michael, and says, you’ve got to be kidding.

Carly tells Brad that the mom wants to know everything, but wants them to know nothing about her. If she’s hiding, it’s for a reason. Carly wants them to be parents, and hopes works out. She leaves, and Brad calls Amy at the hospital. He asks if Lucas is out of surgery yet.

Mike startles Ava at the gallery. He asks what the place is, and she tells him an art gallery. He says it’s not right, and she agrees art isn’t for everybody. He says she doesn’t work here, and she tells him it’s her place of business; she owns it. He says no; this is Luke’s.

Sonny calls Max, and tells him to make sure Mike doesn’t go anywhere if he shows up there. He apologizes to Griff for his father’s anger and denial, but Griff says it’s a common reaction. He tells Sonny that he’s welcome to get a second opinion, but he knew before they did the scans. He’s treated others in Mike’s position. It’s just a matter of how they got there, and how fast; otherwise, it’s all the same.

Sam tells Jason why risk it? She’s worried they’ll scare Henrik off. If he’s thinking she’s afraid for Drew to remember because it will change things, she’s not. He’s desperate to remember for himself, her, and the kids. Even though they thought they were the same person, there are so many elements that make them different. She thinks everyone is trying too hard, like it’s a race to reclaim the memories, and it’s not. If they find the flash drive, great, but if not, life goes on. She says it’s like couples trying to get pregnant. They finally adopt, and then it happens because they stopped stressing. She thinks that could apply here. He laughs, and says he wasn’t clear where she was going, but he’s trying. I’m laughing because Brad and Lucas are the only ones adopting around here, but it’s highly unlikely they’d get pregnant on their own.

Peter returns, and asks where they stand on the article. Jason says scratch it. He’s going to keep looking on his own. Sam says sorry that she told him to stick around for nothing. Peter says it’s not for nothing. The whole Faison thing is fascinating to outsiders, although he realizes it’s a nightmare for them. He says for having thought they were the same person, Jason and Drew are nothing alike.

Griff tells Sonny that all patients respond differently to treatment, and Sonny asks what the options are. Griff says there are medications that can slow the progression and mitigate the symptoms. They also have therapy for how the patient can manage their life. The average life expectancy is four to eight years from the time of onset, but they have no clear picture of when it started with Mike. Sonny says they would if he’d checked on him. Griff says it’s not his fault, but Sonny says it is.

Mike tells Ava that he manages the place, and she’s not one of his people. He asks if Luke brought her in, and she says, Luke Spencer? Mike says he’s the owner; it’s his club. Ava picks up her tablet, and says it’s a misunderstanding. Luke did own a club on this site, but it’s gone. She shows him an article with the headline, Luke’s Club Lost in Fire. She says it burned to the ground years ago.

Epiphany wants to get started. Maxie is annoyed that she has to sit next to Nelle. Epiphany says they’ll go over the signs of labor, and the natural progression. Maxie tells Nina that she wishes Nelle wasn’t taking up so much room, and tells Nelle to move back. Nelle says if she moves any more, she’ll be in the hallway. Maxie says that’s perfect. Epiphany says they’ll have time for chatting later. Nelle asks what Nina is doing there, and if Maxie couldn’t find anyone sane. Maxie asks if Nelle couldn’t find anyone to love her.

On the phone, Brad tells Lucas that they have to agree on the option not to know the birth mother. They can offer the child a loving stable home, and that’s more important. Alexis comes back, and he hangs up. He tells her that he just talked to Lucas, and they want to go forward. They’re good with the semi-open adoption. Alexis says she’ll get the ball rolling, and he can’t believe they’ll have a baby in a few months. She says if all goes well, and he asks why it wouldn’t. Alexis says the mother likes them, but she also asked for more background information. That means an in-depth look at their lives and families. Brad says she’ll find out about Julian.

Nelle leaves the class, and Michael tells her that Maxie is grieving; she’s lashing out at everyone. Nelle says it still hurts to be told she’s alone. He says when comes to the baby, they’re a team, and asks her to go back in. Her phone dings, and she says it’s a reminder about a project she’s doing that’s off and running.

Carly picks up the phone. She says, whoever it is, she’s over it. She listens, and gets an odd look on her face.

Griff tells Sonny there’s no time for assigning blame. He needs to prioritize, and needs to get Mike to accept his diagnosis and formulate a plan of action. He says it’s better that he decide now, than have the decision made for him later when he can’t.

Ava asks Mike if she can call someone. He says, Luke, but she tells him that Luke doesn’t live there anymore. He asks if she’s one of Luke’s enemies, and if she works for Helena. He stumbles into a pedestal, and breaks a sculpture. Ava says she’s calling the police. He runs out, and she tells the police her gallery has been vandalized.

Carly looks confused. Jason walks in, and asks what’s wrong. She says she got a call. She doesn’t know who it was from, but it was just a sound. An explosion.

Peter tells Sam that he didn’t mean to get personal, but she says he’s right; they’re two different people. Jason cut his losses, and moved on, but Drew is still searching for a resolution. She can’t blame him. He doesn’t know who he is, and she can’t imagine what that’s like. Peter can’t either. Sam says it doesn’t change the past five years; what’s done is done. Jason lives in the here and now, and Drew is still struggling. Peter says it’s complicated all around. He wishes he could help. She says, unless he knows the whereabouts of the disco ball with the flash drive in it… and he says he can’t help there. In the hallway, Peter flashes back to picking up the disco ball and looking at it. He opens it to reveal the flash drive.

Tomorrow, Anna asks Andre what took so long, Epiphany hopes Elizabeth is right about Franco, and Sonny asks why he wasn’t warned.

🍜 On Top Chef, the contestants’ families joined them, and they had to make dishes from their childhood years. Moustache Joe made something with pig’s feet, which is just a no for me. I did have relatives who ate this while I was growing up, but lobster and crab aside, I don’t like to eat anything that looks like it did when it was alive. I made the mistake of buying a piece of fish once that had a surprise tail. The instructions said to soak It overnight, and in the morning, a tail had unfolded from the underside. I had to throw it away. Kerry went home after making some beef stroganoff that Tom said didn’t “tie together,” whatever that means. She wasn’t going out sad though, having gotten in the top four, which is pretty impressive. I was thinking about the difference between this and Hell’s Kitchen/MasterChef. While the competitive focus is still there, the Top Chef contestants seem more mature, and there’s a lot less yelling and goofiness. In a way, the shows actually strike a nice balance. Next time, the contestants head to Aspen.

👨 Speaking of Mustache Joe, he was the bartender on Watch What Happens Live tonight. Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller (Sam and Drew, General Hospital) also bartended this week, as they were in town for a GH event.

🎭 I know I said it already, but I’m very much looking forward to the new season of Imposters, beginning April 5th.  I don’t remember why I watched it the first time – there was probably nothing else on – because it’s not really my thing. I never watched any popular mystery and clever dialogue shows like X-Files (I tried), Moonlighting, CSI, Orphan Black, or even Murder, She Wrote – except for the one episode guest starring Marc Singer. So it was a surprise that I enjoyed it so much. Game of Thrones hit me the same way. While I love horror, and some sci/fi, medieval fantasy was never on my short list. Yet I was hooked five minutes in. Ditto for the books.

General Hospital

Kiki drags Spinelli inside her apartment. She looks for her phone, throwing things around. Spinelli tells her to use his, but she says everyone is having a romantic evening, and here she is yelling. Spinelli asks if he should call someone, so she isn’t alone, and she asks why, when she has him? She grabs him and kisses him.

Amy apologizes to Griff for speaking out of turn regarding his love life. She says if he can find happiness he should hang on to it for as long as he can. If Ava makes him happy, that’s all that matters. He says he’s in luck, because Ava makes him very happy

Ava lights candles and puts rose petals on the bed. I can’t even express how annoying I think rolling around on sticky petals would be. I have no clue why everyone thinks this is so romantic. She looks at Griff’s text, and practices saying I love you.

Michael sees Sonny at the hospital. He’s looking for Mike. He went to run an errand, and Sonny hasn’t heard from him. He’s getting worried.

Carly answers a call from unknown caller, who says, I’m here, and hangs up. She doesn’t exactly look worried or scared. How is this plan supposed to work?

Alexis runs into Finn at the hospital. He accuses her of following him. She says she’s trying to distract herself, and asks if Anna’s mixed signals have gotten any clearer.

Anna goes to the Otisville, New York Correctional Facility. She thanks Andre for seeing her so late. He says it’s like boarding school with jumpsuits. She tells him Faison is dead. He heard, and says it must be a great relief, He doesn’t think she’s there to tell him what he already knows, and says if she needs a shrink, his license was suspended. She says she wanted to see her friend. There’s something she’s never told a soul about Faison. A secret she’s been running from her whole life. She had a baby, and it was his.

She says she never told Faison or anyone else. Andre says that’s understandable. Anna says Faison had a son, Henrik, who was responsible for holding Jason at the clinic. She thought it was a possibility Henrik was the baby, but Valentin knew more about what happened to her child than she did. She didn’t hold the baby or look at it; she couldn’t. According to Valentin, the midwife said it was a little girl. She never doubted her decision to give the child up – until now. She can’t stop thinking about her. She’s consumed with her, and doesn’t know how to act around anyone. Andre asks who she’s talking about.

Finn tells Alexis that he and Anna aren’t a couple. Alexis says she and Julian aren’t either, but it doesn’t stop the signals from being mixed. She inherited Laura’s schedule, and Charlie’s was booked for the viewing party. Finn says she did fine the other day, but she says it could be lethal combination if she loses; failure, her ex, and a bar. He sees her problem, and asks if he should come with her.

Spinelli says he’ll get Kiki some water. She thinks she’s losing her touch, but he says his heart is fully engaged elsewhere, but even if it wasn’t, he’d be remiss to take advantage. She insists she’s not drunk. Well, maybe a little. She doesn’t feel good.

Griff starts to leave. Spinelli calls Amy. He says he’s in a delicate situation, and would be grateful for her help. He’s at Kiki’s apartment. He escorted her home, and thinks she has alcohol poisoning. Amy calls Griff back to the desk, and tells him about Kiki. Griff says her apartment is on the way to Ava’s, and to tell Spinelli he’ll be there shortly

Carly calls the pay phone back. That lonely pay phone in the middle of Port Charles nowhere. The doorbell rings. It’s Diane. Carly is snippy, and Diane asks what got her in a foul mood. Carly says she just got a weird phone call. It’s as if she… but she doesn’t finish.

Michael asks when Sonny last heard from Mike. Sonny says Mike went to buy flowers for his lady friend, and left his phone. He went to all of Mike’s places, but no one has seen him. He must have gotten distracted. Michael thinks he’ll turn up, but Sonny is worried he’s in serious trouble.

Nelle sit at the counter at Kelly’s, and tells the baby their plan is working. I’d like to know how she came to that conclusion. She orders some decaf, and Mike pours it.

Ava calls Griff, but gets voicemail. She calls the hospital, and asks if Griff has left. Amy says he should be getting to Kiki’s apartment soon. Ava hangs up before Amy can explain.

Griff asks Kiki what’s going on. He heard she had too much to drink, and asks if she’s eaten. She says, shots, but he meant food. He tells Spinelli he can handle it from here. Spinelli wishes her a restful night and a minimal hangover. Kiki tells Griff that Spinelli left like everyone does, and begs Griff not to leave her too. He says he won’t.

Ava keeps calling Griff, but there’s no answer. She tells herself to get a grip. There has to be a reasonable explanation.

Carly tells Diane it’s probably a prank. Diane has forms for Sonny to sign, but Carly doesn’t know when he’ll be back, and asks if she can sign them. He’s setting up a trust for Avery, so being the legal guardian, Diane needs his signature. Diane asks Carly to tell Michael to return her calls. It’s never too early to plan for his child’s future. Carly asks her to wait; she needs some advice.

Michael tells Sonny that Mike always got in messes now and then, but came out okay. Sonny says when he’s pushed to a corner, he runs. If that’s the case, he has to find him.

The waitress asks if she can help Mike, telling him only staff can serve customers. He drops the coffee pot, and she says she’s calling the police. He tells her to go ahead.

Andre asks who Anna is thinking of letting into her life. Who does she fear sharing the secret with? She says anyone. Just the thought of telling Robin scares her, but there is someone she needs to confide in; one person in particular. She takes Andre’s hand and says she’s not being fair. He says they’re friends, and he has nothing but time. He can’t help her if she won’t tell him what’s going on. Who is she thinking of letting into her life?

Carly tells Diane that Nelle is going to be tied to their family for the rest of her life, and she’s concerned about what that means. If Nelle wanted to keep her and Sonny from the baby, she could. Diane says she’d have to show cause, but there may be things from their past they don’t want to come to light. She says Michael would fight the injunction, but Nelle is the biological mother. She has no criminal record, and would probably be shown in a favorable light. She wonders if Carly has reason to think she’d take it that far. The last she heard, Nelle was playing nice, and the last thing she’d want is to alienate Michael. Carly says all she knows is that if Nelle could get rid of her, she would, in a heartbeat.

A cop comes into Kelly’s, and the waitress explains about Mike. The cop asks Nelle if Mike threatened her, but she says she assumed he worked there. The cop asks if he can help Mike, and Mike tells him to ask the waitress who she thinks she is, telling him what to do; he runs the place. She says he doesn’t work there. Mike takes out his wallet to show his ID. The cop reaches toward him, and Mike backs up, sending the wallet flying. They argue, and Nelle picks it up. She sees pictures of Michael and Morgan.

Sonny tells Michael that he punished Mike for walking out on the family, but decided to learn from his mistake. He wasn’t there for Dante, but for Michael and the kids there was nothing more important than being a good father; being consistent, and showing how much they meant to him. He knows Michael will do that for his child. Michael’s phone rings. Nelle says she knows it sounds weird, but asks if he knows a Michael Corbin. Michael says that’s his grandfather, and Nelle tells him to get to Kelly’s right away.

Griff goes to the kitchen to get Kiki some water. She says he’s so good, it makes him bad. She struggles with taking her top off, and he tries to help her put it back on. Ava walks in, and asks, what the hell is going on here?

Andre asks if Anna is seeing someone. She says they got close, but the secret closed back in on her, and she had to push him away. Now Faison is dead, but the secret still weighs on her. Andre says he spent the better part of the last decade running from his fears, and tells her not to make the same mistake. If he deserves her heart, he deserves her truth.

Finn tells Alexis that she needs someone in her corner, but he knows asking for help isn’t easy. She asks how she should introduce him; as her date or her sober buddy? He says both, and she calls him a sober buddy date. She says when she’s nervous, she likes to eat, and asks if he wants to get something. He says he’d like that.

Griff tells Ava it’s not how it looks. Ava says a chatty nurse told her Griff was there, and she was worried something was wrong. Griff says Kiki had too much to drink. Kiki tells Ava that she drunk-dialed Dillon, and he was with another girl. Ava thinks she should sleep it off, and Kiki toddles to the bedroom. Ava tells Griff it’s not a good look for an aspiring doctor to be carried out of a bar. He tells her not to be mad; Kiki is going through a rough time. She says it’s not Kiki who she’s angry with.

Diane tells Carly that draconian as it is, it’s nearly impossible to sever parental ties. Nelle has a shady past, but it’s not enough. Speaking as her attorney, she tells Carly to stay out of it; it’s Michael’s problem to solve. Diane says he can be very canny, and tells her to look at how he got custody of Avery. He can be ruthless when motivated, and nothing is more motivating than being a parent. Diane’s phone rings. She says it’s the international firm, and she’ll call later, but Carly tells her to call now. She’ll tell Max to meet her at the restaurant. Diane says she won’t even bill Carly – it’s her Valentine’s Day present. She leaves, and Carly looks at her phone.

Sonny and Michael arrive at Kelly’s. Nelle says she didn’t know who to call, and Michael says she did the right thing. Mike tells Sonny to let the cop know he did nothing wrong, unless pouring coffee for customers is against the law. The waitress says he was serving customers and cleaning up; he wouldn’t get out. Sonny tells Mike they don’t know he hasn’t worked there in years, and don’t know he used to manage Kelly’s. Mike says he didn’t think it through, and might have lost his temper. He apologizes. He hasn’t been sleeping well, and gets mixed up. Michael tells the cop that Bobbie owns the place, and he can call her, but the cop recognizes their names. Sonny offers to pay for anything Mike broke, and takes him outside. Michael thanks Nelle. She’s just glad his grandfather is okay. Michael says he won’t forget this.

Carly tries calling the number again, but Sonny interrupts, coming in with Mike. She asks if he made it to the florist. At first, Mike is confused, but then says he didn’t get to it. Michael says they were closed, and Carly tells him there’s always tomorrow. He tells them he’s beat, and goes upstairs. Carly asks where he was. Michael has to leave, and says Nelle did them a big favor. Carly gives Sonny a look.

The waitress gives Nelle a plate on the house; she saved the day. Nelle tells the baby their daddy seemed grateful. Maybe it’s not necessary to destroy Granny Carly. She feels the baby kick, and says clearly it disagrees. The closer she gets to getting back with Michael, the more Carly will be gunning for her. She has no choice but destroy Carly before Carly destroys her.

Ava tells Griff that she spent her whole night looking at the phone. Didn’t it occur to him to call her? He says she told him to meet at her place, no matter how late it was. Since her surgery, she’s made him feel like he’s in the wrong. She says it was Valentine’s Day, and he says he thought she’d want him to take care of Kiki. She tells him it’s become a pattern, and not just with Kiki. He says he’s a sympathetic person, and asks if it’s a problem. She admires him for it, but just wishes one night he’d put her first, especially when she was about to – He says, about to what?

Alexis and Finn go to Kelly’s. Alexis asks him to order for her, and says she’ll be right back. Finn cleans the empty cup on the table with his napkin. Anna walks in, and says she’s meeting someone; she won’t be in his way. He says she’s not. She says there’s something she wanted to tell him about the two of them, but Alexis comes back.

Griff asks Ava if they can’t forget about it, and move on, admitting he should have kept her in the loop. The relationship thing is new to him. He tells her that they still have a few more minutes. They can pick up where they left off. Kiki calls for her mom. Ava says there’s always next year.

Sonny tells Carly that Mike was serving customers like he used to at Kelly’s. She says her mom did say he could always come back. Sonny says the look on Mike’s face when he realized what was happening seemed like he didn’t know how got there. He thinks something must be wrong with Mike. Carly hugs him.

Anna tells Finn he doesn’t have to explain. Diane comes in, and grabs Anna. She says Max is waiting, and pulls Anna away. Alexis tells Finn that Anna is wrong about what she thinks. Finn says she made her position clear, and he doesn’t think she cares. Diane tells Anna that no one is happier than her about Alexis moving on, but when did that become a thing? She says she’s been contacted by a Swiss bank to handle Faison’s estate in North America, and Anna is a beneficiary.

Tomorrow, Griff asks Ava if he should pretend nothing happened, Sonny tells Mike it will be over with before he knows it, and Monica apologizes for interrupting Nelle.

💬 Odds & Ends

🎥 The Lifetime network is like Bruce Campbell. It’s finally accepted and embraced its identity as a channel that shows promising movies with crappy endings, and is churning them out like crazy. Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story aside. There are always exceptions to the rule. I like to call it the hangover network, since you can snooze off and on through an entire day of films, but still won’t feel like you missed anything.

📺 That being said, UnReal returns to Lifetime on Monday, February 26th at 10 pm.

🍲 Winner of MasterChef’s season six, Claudia Sandoval now judges the chefs on MasterChef Latino (Sunday at 8 pm on Telemundo). A fiery, stylish redhead, she quickly became one of my favorites. If her last name sounds familiar, it’s also the last name of the Tom who isn’t Schwartz on Vanderpump Rules. As far as I know though, they are not related.

📖 The Book of John Gray is back on Tuesday, March 13th at 10 pm on OWN. Snagging TBN’s spot-on description: John Gray continues to defy descriptions and labels by seamlessly integrating worship, laughter, preaching, exhortation, and encouragement into one package. I loved this show the last time around, and hope I can squeeze it in.

😳 In this age of not offending anyone (yes, I’m rolling my eyes), why are women still made to look so ridiculous in commercials? The one that’s  irking me in particular is for the Kyleena IUD, where the women get really stupid looks on their faces while trying to remember if they took their pill. Then suddenly, they realize they didn’t have to! I dunno. I think I’d recall if I’d had surgery to insert a foreign object into my body, but that’s just me.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Kiki asks Elizabeth about the reception. Elizabeth says they’re having a hard time picking the right venue. Ava suggests the gallery, and Kiki thinks it would suit them. Elizabeth says she’ll run it by Franco. He has a lot going on

Franco paints a stairway to heaven. I don’t really know what it is, but it looks like a black light poster from the 70s.

At the hospital, Nelle thanks Michael for coming to the appointment. He doesn’t want to miss anything. She suggests calling the baby by its name, unless it a problem.

Carly asks Jason how he likes his new decor. He approves, and thinks he’ll be comfortable.

Alexis asks Sam how things are going. She says, great, all things considered. Faison is dead, and the only lead they have is his newly discovered son Henrik.

Peter tells Drew that he’ll stay on board until they find a replacement. Drew refuses to accept his resignation without an explanation. He can’t walk away without saying why he’s going. Peter says he accomplished what he came to do.

Anna asks Valentin if he ever crossed paths with Faison after leaving the WSB. He tells her that for a seasoned professional, she’s making a mess of this. He’d play this game with her, but his wife wants her gone, so he suggests they cut to the chase. Why doesn’t she just ask him what happened to the child she had with Faison? She asks what he’s talking about, and he asks if that’s all she has. She’s a wonderful liar – it’s what made her a great spy –  but he understands the paradox of a secret too painful to keep. She starts to leave, and he tells her to go ahead and run away, but she’ll never get the answers she came for.

Michael says he knows Nelle meant well, but thinks they should come up with something else. Nelle says she thought it was a good way to honor Morgan’s memory, but Michael says it brings up painful memories about their loss and the mistakes they made while grieving. Nelle assumes it’s Carly who doesn’t want it, but Michael says he doesn’t either.

Elizabeth sees Franco’s painting, and says it’s illuminating. His muse is back in full force. He tells her the best way to work things out is with a paintbrush. She asks if this is the result of his session with Doc. He doesn’t want to give Doc all the credit, but it was Illuminating. Elizabeth thinks she knows what the painting means.

Carly babbles to Jason about having the boys over. She says now it’s Jason’s turn; it’s his place. The boys will visit, and they’ll make memories. He hopes so, and she tells him, don’t hope; make it happen. He’s the most determined person she knows. When he decides to do something, he does it. She tells him to decide to have a relationship with his boys. If anyone tells him not to, they’re wrong.

Peter tells Drew that he’s still in shock from the shooting. He was lucky to come away spared, but Nathan didn’t. He didn’t see Nathan get shot, but he saw the aftermath with Maxie begging him not to leave her. He tried to staunch the bleeding, but not enough. it sounds cliché, but afterwards, he questioned his life, and if wants to spend it behind a desk. Drew asks if he’s going to the Himalayas to search for enlightenment, and says maybe he should just take some time off. Peter says he knows what he needs to do. Drew tells him that since he’s been there, the revenues are way up, and so is the readership. Peter says he told Drew the company had potential, and he’s glad to realize some of it. Drew tells him that he’s part of the Aurora family, and he hates to see him leaving. Peter thanks him, saying up until now, he didn’t know what it was like to have family.

Valentin asks Anna if she isn’t tied of running. She says she’s tired of him talking in riddles. He says he was clear; he knows she had a child with Faison. She asks how he came to know? He talks about a school in London much like Hogwarts, but it was a spy school. There was a beautiful princess at the school, and a crooked man, ugly as a troll. He knows what happened on a dark sinful night, when the princess went to Brussels where a midwife was waiting to help deliver a child. Anna runs to the door. He says he thought it was Alex, but it was her all along. She asks why he’s doing this. He asks if she doesn’t want to know, and she tells him he wasn’t there. He tells her to let him finish the story without interruption, and she comes back in.

Elizabeth says the painting is Franco crawling out of a dark place into something new and unknown. He says that’s more than Doc would say. Elizabeth is proud of him, but doesn’t want to interrupt. He tells her she’s the most important thing to him. She explains how Ava offered the gallery for their reception. He thinks that’s uncharacteristically generous, and she was probably trying to impress Kiki. He’s glad though, since he thought they’d have to set up food trucks outside the brownstone. They decide to have lunch, and discuss the plans.

Nelle tells Michael she thought naming the baby Morgan would help the contention. He says it was after Morgan died that she drugged his father and pretended to sleep with him to hurt his mother, Naming the baby Morgan will only bring back old pain. His family doesn’t deserve that, and neither does the baby. He suggests they wait until the baby is born, and come up with a name they both like. She asks if he means a name he likes, and asks if there’s anything else he’d like to dictate. He tells her that he wants to discuss anything they can compromise on, and be by her side as much as she’ll let him. She calls him exasperating. One minute, he’s unreasonable, and the next, he’s incredible.

Jason tells Carly that Danny is coming over. He’s nervous about it, since Sam has always been there. Carly says Danny knows he can trust Jason, and is safe with him. Jason asks how, and she says she’s sure Danny senses that his mom feels the same way. Sam knows that if she needs him for anything, he’ll come through. She knows she’s safe with him.

Sam explains to Alexis how Jason and Sonny figured out Faison had another son – Henrik. They think he was involved in the switch with Jason and Drew. Alexis asks if he’s still at large. Sam says she and Drew didn’t know the truth until after Faison was shot. Drew accused Jason of withholding information, but she thinks he wanted proof before saying anything. Alexis wonders if Sam had been alone, would Jason have told her from the beginning? Sam agrees that he didn’t want to put her in the middle. Alexis says, like when they kissed on New Year’s Eve?

Drew tells Peter that if he feels the same way tomorrow, he and Sam will respect his decision. Peter doubts that he’ll change his mind. They part company.

Sam tells Alexis the kiss was mutual. They talked about it, and it’s over with. Alexis suggests she keep her distance just to be safe. Drew calls Sam, and tells her something came up at work. She says she can meet him at the office, but he says he’ll come to her. They need to talk, but he’ll explain when he sees her. She tells Alexis that she needs a favor.

Valentin continues his story. In spy school, the crooked man was hopelessly in love with the princess, and hoped to win her over with a daring act of devotion. He hoped she would see the real him, past his physical defects. Her most obvious weakness was ambition. She wanted to leapfrog over the other recruits, and wanted to bring down the biggest baddie – Cesar Faison. She knew he was already fixated on her, and saw an in using his weakness. Anna says she wanted to destroy him. Valentin says he saw her when she stole away from school. He followed her. Anna says he should have stopped her, but he says this isn’t about him; it’s a story from his perspective. He asks if she wants him to stop, but she says, no. He says he followed and watched as she blended in. He watched her go through a door and come out in disguise, looking like a common call girl. She fooled everyone but him. He followed her out of London, and she went to pub where Faison would be. He was drunk when she sat next to him, and she got him drunker before she left. Rumors were flying that she’d stolen intel from Faison. No one knew how, but he did, and knows she got more than she bargained for. Anna tells him to stop it, but he says she’s made it this far. If she leaves now, she’ll miss the best part of the story.

Anna doesn’t deny her ambition, and isn’t apologizing for it. She wanted the glory of bringing him down. He was sick, and paid women to impersonate her. She thought she could pass herself off as one of them. Valentin says it was a dangerous game that went further than she expected, which brings them back to Brussels. He talks about the creaky stairs the midwife had to go up. Anna wonders how he could know that. He says she took a spontaneous leave of absence from school. There was a lot of speculation, but a contact told him where she was. By the time he got there, the room was empty with no sign of a mother with her child. Anna asks how does he know what happened, and he says he never did. She just confirmed it. She just confirmed she knows nothing whatsoever about birth control too.

Drew tells Sam that Peter tendered his resignation, saying he did what came to do, whatever that means. Sam thinks maybe he was shaken up over the shooting. Drew says he asked Peter to take time to think it through, but he seemed certain. Jim intrudes, saying the fates conspired in his favor. Sam introduces them, and Jim says he plans to be a major advertiser when the Charles Street project kicks into gear. Drew reminds him that’s if the proposal passes, but Jim thinks it will. He goes to the bar to get drinks.

Franco and Elizabeth come in. Franco sees Sam and Drew, and says it’s busy; maybe they should go somewhere else. Elisabeth says she’s ready for comfort food and beer. She tells him that if he’s going to stare, he should just say hello. He thinks Drew would prefer he play in oncoming traffic. They sit, and Jim says, hey, Bobby, small world.

Kiki doesn’t want to overstep, but asks Michael and Nelle if the baby is okay. Nelle says they’re just there to sign up for mom classes. She says she’s exhausted, and asks Michael to sign them up. She leaves, and Kiki says, so Michael is getting his Lamaze on; she wants a video. He says that’s not happening. She’s glad to see he’s getting along with Nelle, as long as she understands. She says they seemed affectionate, but Michael says Nelle understands there’s nothing between them. Actually, there is. It’s called a baby.

Ava tells Nelle it looks promising, and Nelle says the baby is bringing them closer. Ava asks what about Granny Carly, and Nelle says that’s a bit of a setback. Ava says that Carly is not going to give up without a fight, but Nelle says she won’t have fight left in her after what she’s planning. The details have yet to be finalized, but she might need Ava’s help to pull it off.

Jason tells Carly that Sam wants him to keep his distance. Carly insists Sam needs for him to wait until she can admit her love for him. Alexis comes by to drop Danny off. Danny thinks the place is cool. Carly says great taste runs in the family. Danny is puzzled by that, and Jason explains she means that she picked everything out, and is glad he likes it. He tells Danny welcome to his new place; it’s Danny’s new place too.

Danny brought Jason a present; a drawing of him and Annabelle II. Danny tells Jason about a Star Wars game he likes, and Carly says what a coincidence. There just might be Star Wars stuff in his room. He and Jason go to check it out, and Carly asks Alexis why Sam couldn’t bring Danny. Alexis says she had a work issue. Carly questions if it’s really that she can’t trust herself around Jason. Because Carly knows how everyone in the world thinks and feels better than they do.

Jim sits with Drew and Sam. He says it wouldn’t hurt to have a mayor who’s pro-business, and asks if they’re planning to endorse anyone. Sam says that would be unethical, since her mom is a candidate, and Drew is related to Ned. Jim asks if it’s Drew as in Andrew. He’s putting it together for the first time, and explains that he used to know Drew and Franco when they were kids. He dated Betsy, and used to call them Bobby and Andy. Sam asks if he knows anything else he can tell Drew about his past. Jim says, not much. He and Betsy broke up, and later he heard Drew had died, but that turned out to be untrue. He’s clearly alive and well. He says what a crazy coincidence that the three of them are in the same town. They were meant to reconnect. Drew stares at Franco.

Valentin tells Anna that he had the word of the midwife, but never knew for sure. Now he knows the truth; she gave birth to Faison’s child. Anna says the child had a monster for a father. Valentin agrees. That’s why he never told anyone. Crying, she thanks him, and asks if he knows what happened to the child.

Kiki tells Michael she’s celebrating with her mom about getting into med school. He tells her that the hospital is throwing a celebration for incoming students, but she says it seems to be a couple’s thing. She doesn’t want to go and be interrogated about where Dillon is. Michael tells her not to let him ruin her moment. She should go to the party and celebrate. She says she’ll think about it.

Ava asks Nelle how she can help. Nelle says she’ll need more flexible hours. She’ll get her work done, but needs extra time for the baby’s sake. Ava tells her to consider her hours as flexible as she needs.

Jason asks Carly if she wants to stay for dinner, but she says it’s a big night for them. They should order pizza and watch basketball. Jason asks what kind of pizza Danny wants, and Danny says whatever Jason is getting, calling him dad. Carly tells him to get used to it. It’s who he is to Danny, and always will be.

Sam asks if Jim can shed any light on Drew’s past. Jim says Drew is lucky to be alive after what Bobby did. The little psycho tried to kill him by shoving him down the basement steps. Drew gets up to go after Franco, but it’s all in Franco’s head. In reality, Jim tells Drew that he was always building things. It’s not surprising that he built a company. He’s looking forward to them doing business together. He leaves, and Sam asks if it’s her, or was he holding something back? Drew was wondering the same thing. Franco looks at his lucky rabbit’s foot.

Valentin tells Anna that the midwife said she couldn’t bring herself to look at the baby. He assumes it’s because if she did, she would never let go. The midwife told him that Anna begged her to find the baby a home; a place she could grow up happy, healthy and unaware of her father. Anna says, she? Valentin tells her that she had a girl. Surprise!

Kiki tells Ava that she wants to go to The Floating Rib, but Ava says she deserves champagne, not a bib. They’re going to the MetroCourt. She says maybe soon, she’ll have something to celebrate too.

In the hallway, Carly’s phone rings. It says unknown, and no one is there when she answers. Nelle hangs up at a payphone. I haven’t seen one of those in years. No wonder Jim thinks Port Charles is behind the times.

Franco and Elizabeth get ready to leave. Drew gets up, and asks why Franco never told him that Jim knew them as kids. Franco says it’s ancient history. Drew picks up the rabbit’s foot that Franco dropped and hands it back.

Valentin tells Anna that the story has a happy ending. The midwife honored her wishes, and found a happy home for the child. She never knew who her father was, and Faison never knew she existed. So Anna got what she wanted. He tells her good night, and she leaves. Outside, she smiles, and says she wanted a girl.

Peter’s phone rings. He answers, telling the caller they should be aware he’s leaving Port Charles. Valentin says that would be a mistake.

Tomorrow, Nathan’s funeral.

Mike’s girlfriend, Rita (Suanne Spoke), was also the NYC bartender who helped Jason hide when he was on his way back from Russia. He gave her Huxley’s “lucky” watch, so I wonder if this is ever going to factor in. I’m sure that watch was more than a watch.

🍰 This week’s Top Chef had the contestants cooking up desserts in the Stanley Hotel, which inspired The Shining. The challenge was to create their worst nightmare on a plate. For the most part, it was disappointing. One cook had been afraid of seeds as a child. Okay… Another cook wanted to recreate an egg exposing an unborn chick when cracked, which he claimed was a real thing. It was all I could do not to scream at the TV that this is a misconception. When you crack open an egg, and there’s a spot that looks like blood, it’s not a pre-peep; it’s a discoloration. In order to produce a chicken, an egg has to be fertilized. By a rooster. Farmers aren’t going to do that if they only want eggs. Bruce ended up having to pack his knives because of some undercooked barley. At least it wasn’t risotto, although oddly enough, he had wanted to cook it like risotto. Step away from anything risotto.

😬 This weekend, AMC will be having a Walking Dead marathon, as well as a preview of season 8B. When did seasons start sounding like apartment numbers?

🎭 Imposters returns to Bravo on Thursday April 5th at 10 pm. It’s a great show and worth checking out. Lots of fun, lots of drama, and lots of surprising twists.
