What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Walking Dead

King Ezekiel says they’re coming – bloodthirsty rogues and cutthroats, bent on their destruction – yet he smiles. The Kingdom tromps trough the woods. Ezekiel notes that Carol smiles. They keep walking, Ezekiel leading them like a bloodhound. They hear whistling, and raise their hands as they’re approached by Saviors. Carol says they have the numbers, but we have the strategy. Suddenly, there’s a gun battle, with the Saviors being the losers. Ezekiel says it brings hope to the heart, maybe unwisely. Keep to their plan and training, and the fates may smile and allow this dream. They won’t lose, not one of their ranks. Ezekiel walks among the dead Saviors. He tells Carol, not one. Shiva growls.

Morales tells Rick, guns down. He remarks that this whole time it was him. Rick tells him the fight is out there; it’s just him in there. Morales says he knows who Rick is, and it wasn’t any blast from the past to see him. They both came from there to here. He calls Rick a monster. He called the Saviors back because Rick is a prize, Morales asks why he’s there? Why is there always a guy willing to rush in; why? What’s Rick looking for? He says Rick has nothing to say, even though he’s not giving Rick a chance to say anything, and just keeps barraging him with questions. Morales says it doesn’t matter. What’s left is coming to get him. Whether they get him to Negan or not, his sh*t is going to be settled. He calls Rick “peaches,” and I wonder if that’s Rick’s stripper name.

Outside, the battle goes on. God forgive me, someone falls, and I laugh. Some Saviors run back inside. Lots of shooting is still happening, and a little feeding as the dead rise.

Aaron gets Eric to a tree out of the line of fire. Aaron says there’s an exit wound, so that’s good. He’ll get Eric to the Kingdom’s doctor. He tells Eric he’s sorry. Eric asks if he’s the one who shot him. Aaron says pulled Eric into it when he didn’t want to fight. Eric says, until he did. He tells Aaron to go and help the others; they need him. Aaron starts to cry. Eric says Aaron knows he loves him, and tells Aaron to get back to the fight; they can win this thing. Aaron says we will, and tells Eric he loves him and always has. He leaves, giving Eric a gun.

On the road, Jesus’s group walks on, with the Savior prisoners tied together by a rope. One of the soldiers tells Tara they’ll take the Savior prisoners back to Maggie; she’ll know what to do with them. Tara says she knows what they did. Walking next to Morgan, Jared starts whistling, and Morgan pokes him with the staff. I’d do that on a good day if he started that whistling next to me. Jesus says it’s not far to Hilltop; they’ve made the decision. Morgan insists nothing has been decided, and Jesus says nothing is permanent, but they’re taking the Saviors to Hilltop. Morgan says he knows how dangerous this is, and who these people are. Jesus tells him no matter what they’ve done, they’re people. He and Morgan have killed, but they don’t execute. Morgan says, not here.

Rick asks Morales if his family is there, but Morales says they didn’t make it to Birmingham. Rick says he’s sorry; he’s lost people too – Lori, Shane, Andrea, Glenn. Negan killed Glenn; forced him to his knees and bashed in his head in front of his pregnant wife; Maggie is his widow. He asks if Morales is Negan too. Morales says he lost his family, and lost his mind, waiting to become nothing, and the Saviors found him. They thought he was worth a damn and worth bringing back, so yeah, he’s Negan. To make it this far for this long, there has to be something. Morales says they’re the same; two a-holes, doing whatever they have to, to keep going. The only difference is that he’s the one holding the gun. That makes him luckier. If it was Rick holding the gun, his brains would already be on the floor. Rick tells Morales that he doesn’t know that. He wouldn’t want to, and would do the best he could to try and find another way. Morales thinks he can talk all he wants, but they’re all dead. Somewhere along the way, Officer Friendly died with them, just like he did.

Rick says, no, and Daryl shoots Morales in the back with his crossbow before Rick can protest. Rick says Daryl didn’t know who it was, but Daryl says, it don’t matter. He asks if Rick found guns, and Rick says the guns aren’t there. They gotta get out before –

Too late. They’re here.

Jared says there’s something different about Morgan. It’s his armor, like it shrunk. He realizes it’s Benjamin’s armor, and asks why Morgan would wear it, since the kid didn’t do sh*t for him. Morgan points the staff at Jared, but their altercation is interrupted by zombies rolling down the hill next to them, and landing in the road. There’s a wide variety, some barely more than skeletons. More zombies roll down, and a bunch of Saviors start running, but it’s awkward when you’re tied together.

Some of the Saviors run into the woods. Morgan tails them. One of them falls, Morgan catches up, and shoots another one. Jesus stops him from shooting any more. Morgan tells him the Saviors are never going to change, and Jesus says they’ll find another way; Maggie will. Morgan says she’ll want them dead after what they’ve done. Jesus says they’ll have to live with them after. They have to find a way to peace. He puts his hand on Morgan’s shoulder, and Morgan knocks Jesus back. They fight.

Ezekiel reminds his band that those they extinguished are just part of the compound. But their first victory will allow their second, and their second will deliver their third.

Daryl and Rick run through the building, getting shot at periodically. There’s a mini gun battle in the hallway.

Jesus and Morgan kick each other’s asses. Morgan tries to hit Jesus with his staff, but Jesus is pretty nimble, and does some amazing bobbing and weaving. Morgan finally gets a good whack in, but then Jesus drop kicks him. Morgan comes close to stabbing him with the pointy end of the staff.

Daryl says he’s out. Rick sees a fire extinguisher across the hall, and shoots it. The white stuff sprays all over the place, and while the Saviors are trying to get their bearings, Rick and Daryl grab the Savior’s guns, and jet the hell out.

Morgan and Jesus continue fighting. Ain’t nobody got time for this. They struggle over the staff, and Jesus gets the staff. He tosses it back to Morgan, and in gratitude, Morgan points it at Jesus’s throat. The rest of the group gets closer, and Morgan backs off. He says he’s not right, but that doesn’t make him wrong, which sounds like the title of a Tyler Perry movie. Morgan says he can’t be a part of this. Tara says he is right. Morgan picks up a gun, and strides off, looking at the bodies.

At Hilltop, Enid looks out and says, it’s him. Gregory bangs on the door, saying he needs help; he’s been through hell, and he knows they can hear him. Maggie opens gate a little bit, and asks what he’s doing with Gabriel’s car? Gregory says he doesn’t know Gabriel, and the car was there. He says he lives there, adding that some of them didn’t just show up, which is probably the wrong thing to say to Maggie right now. She says he sold out, and he says he tried to save lives; it was Negan who made him say horrible things. He went to the Saviors, furthering diplomacy. Some people would call it heroic. Maggie says he was looking out for himself, and tried to betray them. Gregory tells her that he caused no harm; Negan already knew everything. Maggie tells him goodbye, and he says okay, he was scared. He knew they couldn’t win a fight against Negan, but didn’t want to be seen as complicit. He sees now that he can’t be reasoned with.

She starts to walk away, and he says he made a mistake, and he’s sorry. They’re all just human beings with faults, flaws, and fears. Is this who she is? Has she no mercy, humanity, or charity? He asks her to open the gate, and open her heart. Don’t leave a human out to die. Maggie turns around, and says, let him in. He’s not worth killing, not yet anyway. Gregory says he’s a believer now. Cal calls down that Jesus is here. Gregory tells her not to let him in with the Saviors; she’ll put their safety in jeopardy. She says, Gregory, go! like he’s a dog.

Maggie wonders what they’ll do with the Saviors, and Jesus says there are empty trailers out back that they can be locked in. He says they surrendered. They can’t let them go, but they can’t kill them.

Back at the outpost, the shooting is over, but the dead who have turned are feeding. Daryl starts killing the new zombies off, and Rick takes Polaroids. Wtf? They load their wounded into a truck, and clean up as best they can. What’s with Rick taking photos? Did Instagram survive the apocalypse? He writes a note.

Aaron goes back to the tree, but Eric is gone. He sees the gun on the ground, and calls out to him. There’s a lot of blood at the base of the tree. He looks across the road, and sees Eric ambling toward his new people, the undead. Aaron cries, and one of the group takes his arm, saying, it’s not him. He leads Aaron away.

Rick brings out the baby. Aaron says he’ll take her to Hilltop, where she’ll be safe. He and Eric were going there to update Maggie. Yep, babysitting a newborn ought to take his mind off his troubles. Rick gives him the baby, saying her name is Gracie. (Last week, on Talking Dead, Andrew Lincoln had said the baby would be fine.)

Rick sees Daryl, and they’re about to confer, when someone shoots at them. They duck and hide. Rick calls out, saying they’re alone, and he knows the shooter is too. There’s not enough room behind the tree for more than one. He says a herd is coming – just sayin’. They can make a deal. Drop the gun and come out. Tell them what they need to know, take the car, and live. Todd’s voice asks why he should trust them. Rick says he gives Todd his word. There’s isn’t much that’s worth anything anymore, but a man’s word should mean something. Todd comes limping out, and asks what they want to know. Rick asks about the guns. Todd says the guns aren’t there. They had them for a while, and they were sent to another outpost yesterday. Rick asks which one, and Todd says McGavin (I think), west of there. He asks if he can go now, and Daryl shoots him. Geez.

Ezekiel is still smiling. Everyone is accounted for, and he smiles even more broadly. He tells Carol, not one. She tells them to sweep the compound. Ezekiel says, we or they; one or the other. She heads toward the buildings, and Ezekiel suddenly yells, scatter! Gunfire comes from the tower window.

The Kingdom people drop like flies. Several of them block King Ezekiel from getting hit, at the expense of their own lives.

Next time, Ezekiel says they face a dire challenge; they will fight and they will bleed – lives hang in the balance. Carol is captured.

👓 Jordan Woods-Robinson, who played Eric, is also a member of Blue Man Group.

👱 Didn’t want this, but I’m starting to understand what’s on the menu now. We can hide like these people, we can keep trying to serve The Saviors, and I can watch you get randomly beaten every so often, or else we can fight. So, here we are. And being with you, well it makes abject terror tolerable. – Eric to Aaron

🍑 The Real Housewives of Atlanta started its new season tonight, along with Married to Medicine, but I decided to take a break from these shrews women. My real life, such as it is, has been extra busy lately, so if I watch these, it will be in a half-assed way, like while I’m doing three other things. I did catch most of Atlanta tonight. Kenya claimed to have gotten her fairytale ending, having gotten married over the break, and showed off her gorgeous ring, as well as pictures of the ceremony. Are they divorced yet? Phaedra got fired over the litigious accusations she made about Kandi last season. We’re still stuck with Porsha though. She now has a podcast, where she says she’s unplugged and unedited. If she considers herself plugged and edited on this show, I can’t imagine. I did a double-take when, after being told men could father children at any age, Porsha thought the children might come out looking old. Seriously, is this an act? No one can be this stupid, right? Right? NeNe now has a store that carries clothing for “women who eat, and women who don’t eat.” Cynthia is fifty, single, and alone. Don’t cry for me, Argentina. She’s fabulous and has a home on a lake that looks like it’s out of a magazine. Sheree hasn’t been interesting since her who gonna check me, boo? days. She said she doesn’t want to have bad energy around her, and I have some advice. Leave. Now. Kandi is busy with the baby and the OLG restaurant. And her new show, Xscape: Still Kickin’ It, that premiered after Atlanta. It’s a limited (I think six part) gig, so catch it while you can.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava sees Griff at the hospital. He asks if they have plans, but she’s there for a follow-up. She tells him everything is fine, and they were actually impressed. Too bad the doctors in Russia didn’t finish what they started. She says what you see is what you get, and Griff tells her what he sees is beautiful. It’s bad enough they constantly hand each other cups of fresh empty from Perks, but now I’m expected not to notice Ava is anything but gorgeous.

At the MetroCourt, Diane tells Sonny that Real Jason is being held as John Doe. Sonny appreciates the irony. Diane hasn’t seen his face yet, but understands that he and Carly want to believe he’s Jason. As his attorney, she has to raise the idea they might be being played.

Alexis visits Sam. Other Jason says she’s fine, but let her sleep. Alexis asks who rescued Sam, and Sam, now awake, says the man said he’s Jason.

Real Jason is at the station. Curtis sees him, and says the rumors are true. Jordan apologizes; they had lunch plans and she forgot to cancel. Curtis says he’s only seen a few pictures, but dude is a dead ringer for Jason. Jordan says all parties involved are as much in the dark as they are. Scotty blows in, and asks to be pointed in the direction of the poor soul who needs his expertise. Jordan says he’s waiting for Diane. He sees Real Jason, and says, omg.

Elizabeth tells Franco it makes sense now. He knew there was more to the story, and knew Betsy was lying. He says there was a twin, and he knows what happened to him.

Ava tells Griff to stop saying that; she might start to believe him. Not everyone can see past her scars. She’s starting to meet with new clients, and aesthetics come into play, especially in the art world. I dunno. A scar might be an asset. The art world is pretty weird. Griff thinks they should celebrate her first show. Going after a client is a huge deal, and he won’t take no for an answer.

Sam asks where Danny is, and Other Jason tells her he’s at the Quartermaines. Alexis says they can talk childcare later; how is she feeling? Sam says she’s in one piece. Alexis wonders what happened to taking it easy. Other Jason says there’s a man in town with his old face. Alexis says she heard he rescued Sam, and they owe him a debt of gratitude. Other Jason says he’s an impostor, and he’s at the station now.

Jordan tells Scotty that dude is calling himself Jason Morgan. Scotty suddenly has to go. Jordan tells Curtis that she has to postpone tonight, but he understands. He has a lot going on too. He says they’ll talk later. When he leaves, Real Jason comes out.

Elizabeth tells Franco it’s not their secret to keep. Franco says there are no answers yet. He takes a paper out of his pocket and hands it to her, saying Jason’s twin is dead. Quit confusing me.

Sonny tells Diane that when she sees him, she’ll know the truth. She says Sam’s husband had that face too, and has a DNA test to back it up. Sonny says he’s not Jason; Jason is the guy at the station. Diane tells Sonny that according to Carly, he’s not keen on being released. For some reason, he wants to stay in lock-up.

A guard puts Real Jason in a cell, noting he has experience. When the guard is gone, Real Jason sees Klein, and says they finally have a chance to talk.

Franco shows Elizabeth the fake death certificate. She notices the name is Moore. Franco tells her that’s why he couldn’t find it, but he followed a hunch and a friend helped. Whoever the stranger is, he can’t be Jason’s twin. Elizabeth asks how he can be sure; documents can be faked.  He says that’s not Betsy’s style. Elizabeth thinks they should give Jason as much info as they can to help him figure out what’s going on.

Alexis asks why Real Jason is in jail. Other Jason explains that when he saw Franco, he beat the crap out of him; clearly, he’s done his research and sticking to the act. Other Jason leaves to talk to Epiphany about Sam’s release. Alexis asks what Sam thinks.

Real Jason tells Klein that he’s lucky Sam survived or he’d kill him. Klein says she was only a diversion, a way to lure him to the docks; he had no intent to harm her. Real Jason points out that he threw her in the water, but Klein assumed he’d save her. One thing he’s learned about Real Jason is that he’s extremely capable. Real Jason asks how long he was at the clinic, and Klein tells him long enough to dismantle the operation. Real Jason asks who was paying Klein to keep him there?

Diane wonders why Real Jason would choose lock-up, but Sonny says she’d have to ask him. She says the attack on Franco was brutal and unprovoked. Sonny doesn’t think that sounds like Jason, but Diane says he’d have every reason to want Franco dead. Sonny suggests Franco will finally pay, but she tells him one step at a time. Sonny tells Diane to call him when she admits he’s Jason.

Griff and Ava come into the restaurant. Griff has to return call, and Ava goes to the bar. She got a new hair color with her new face, and she’s a strawberry blonde now. Sonny approaches her. She asks what he wants, and he says answers about Jason.

Sonny says she met him in the Russian clinic, and Ava says he was referred to as Patient 6. Sonny wants to know who was holding him, but Ava tells him that she only dealt with the doctors and staff. Griff asks what going on, and she says they were chatting about the clinic. She tells Sonny that she heard Klein on the phone, warning someone that Patient 6 was getting better. She has no idea who he was talking to though. Sonny asks if she’s sure, or is she lying to cover her part in it?

Klein tells Real Jason that the client wanted to remain anonymous. The only contact was by phone or email. They wanted Real Jason sedated, healthy and secure, and no questions asked. Jordan comes in with Diane. She sees Real Jason, and says my, my. He tells her, hello, Diane, and she guesses they have a lot to catch up on.

Curtis sees Other Jason. Other Jason assumes he heard what happened at the launch party. Curtis heard enough, and thinks Real Jason must be a con man, an enemy getting in his head. Other Jason says it’s definitely working. He’s got the people closest to him believing. Not Sam, but Sonny and Carly. He says it’s hard to explain. He doesn’t know what to think, but needs to figure out who he is. Curtis tells him to stay and keep an eye on Sam. He’s not sure Other Jason can be objective anyway. Other Jason says that’s why he called Curtis. He says the guy has no record on file at all. Curtis isn’t sure where to start, and Other Jason tells him to start with Franco.

Franco tells Elizabeth the information won’t help; it will just throw him off the scent. Elizabeth tells him that she’s kept things to herself over the years, and it was a huge mistake. Franco says it won’t be forever. When it’s sorted out, then they talk to people. They don’t want to give the mystery guy any more ammunition to disrupt Jason’s life more than he already has. Scotty interrupts, and practically strong arms Franco away

Alexis asks what Sam remembers. Sam tells her that she was at the MetroCourt, when a guy stuck a needle in her arm. Everything got hazy, and there was a crash from the ceiling and guy. She doesn’t remember what happened after that, then she was thrown into water. It was cold, and she thinks she got stuck. The next thing she remembers is being on the docks, coughing up water. She could feel his hands on her, and hear his voice. She looked up and saw him. She asks if she’s going to be okay. Alexis says, so he maintains he’s Jason, but what does Sam think? She thinks he believes he’s telling the truth. Alexis says obviously she can’t talk to her husband, but can talk to her. What if it’s true, and he is Jason? Where does that leave Sam and her husband?

Monica is glad Elizabeth’s injuries aren’t more serious, and Elizabeth says Franco is more shook than her. She tells Monica the man who crashed through the ceiling was at the hospital with Carly. He attacked Franco; he said nothing, just tried to strangle him. Monica asks what happened, and Elizabeth says he was arrested and is in police custody.

Scotty tells Franco that he saw him; he’s a dead ringer for Jason, i.e. a twin. He thinks Franco should talk to Betsy, and he says he already did. Andrew is alive, but he can’t tell anyone, especially Elizabeth. Scotty asks why, and Franco says he tried to kill Andrew.

Other Jason says he didn’t think much about it at the time, but Franco had a picture from when he was a kid. There was another boy in the picture, and Jake insisted it looked like him. When he asked Franco about it, Franco said he got rid of it. He knows better than to take Franco at his work, but it’s a starting point. He tells Curtis thanks. He’s not just reaching out to him as a PI, but trusts him. Curtis says damn right. He doesn’t rummage in a dumpster with rats as big as his foot without bonding a little. He’s sorry people are doubting Other Jason, and wants him to know he has his back.

It’s time for Klein’s arraignment. Diane asks for time alone with her client. She tells him seeing is believing is a grotesque understatement, and it’s good to see him again. He’s surprised she doesn’t think he’s a fraud, and she says she’s a litigator. She’s paid to find holes in stories, and the yarn about the other guy is chock full of them. She always had doubts. Real Jason wonders why Carly and Sonny went along with it. Diane says as fond as she is of him, they love him, and they needed him to be alive. There were gaps in his story no one could fill. Real Jason asks if his story doesn’t have gaps, but she says his story logically fills the gaps in Other Jason’s. She has no doubt he’s the one and only Jason Morgan. He says that’s good to hear. She wants to get him out of there, but he says he’s not going anywhere until he’s done with Klein.

Sam tells Alexis that she loves her husband, and he loves her. He’s Scout’s father, and the only father Danny knows. They spent the last year falling in love and built a life together. Alexis says, a life away from Sonny. Sam agrees that’s not like Jason, but does it matter? Other Jason comes back, and Alexis has to leave to meet a doctor about a case. She tells them good luck.

Franco tells Scotty that apparently when he was a kid, he pushed Andrew down a flight of stairs, and almost killed him. Betsy sent him away for his own protection. Scotty scoffs at any truth from Betsy, but Franco says he found another proof; a guy who has knowledge of the situation. Scotty says so there are two Jason Morgans – one with his original face and a bad attitude, and a bouncier Jason with a different face. He asks if they guy told him which was which.

Franco explains about memory mapping, but doesn’t know what to do with the information. He says there are two Jasons who want him dead. Scotty tells him to quit pretending it’s about him. It’s about Elizabeth.

Elizabeth tells Monica that Real Jason beating Franco was brutal and terrifying, but just what Jason would do if didn’t know about the brain tumor. Monica asks if she’s suggesting this guy is her son. She doesn’t accept it. She and Other Jason took a long time to get back to where they are, and she knows in her heart he’s her son. She’s sure somebody will find way to put this all to rest.

Other Jason carries Sam into the apartment. He tells her it’s romantic, efficient, and he likes being next to her. She says they’re the worst CEO people ever. He says she’s okay, and that’s all he cares about; everything else is second. He doesn’t know what he’d do if he lost her. They hug.

Diane understands Real Jason’s desire to question Klein, but suggests they get him out of there. She thinks he should plead temporary insanity. Considering Franco’s history with him, it’s plausible, but he’s legally in the wrong unless he’s not accountable. Real Jason says he’s not doing it; they have to find another way. He asks her to get a message to Sonny.

Griff tells Sonny that Ava was fighting for her life when he found her. Sonny asks if he expects her to believe Ava, but expects him to believe him. Ava would have been killed if he hadn’t intervened. He lets Sonny know that he’s no longer a priest, in case he wants counsel. Sonny can’t believe he’s leaving the priesthood for Ava. He’d thought Griff was on a mission to save his soul, but maybe Sonny should be praying for him.

Franco tells Scotty that Elizabeth will learn he was a monster even back then. Everything he’s done isn’t because of a tumor, but it’s in his DNA. Scotty is like, so he did something bad as a kid. Just tell them which one is which, and leave out the rest. If Franco doesn’t do it, he will. He helped Susan raise Jason. Franco says he can’t lose the woman he loves; Scotty has to keep quiet. Scotty agrees, but says if Franco thinks it will end well for him, he’s sadly mistaken. They leave the office. Franco continues down the hall, but Scotty’s phone rings. He tells Clem to tell the warden to leave a message, then says, what?

Scotty sees Alexis and tells her that he needs to discuss Julian with her.

Griff hopes Ava isn’t letting Sonny get to her. She’s worried he has point about her corrupting Griff.  Griff says she’s not corrupting him. She woke him up, and helped him face the reality of the life he wants to live and who he wants to be with. She says this is a lot of pressure for a second date; let’s just enjoy the evening. They drink their martinis.

Diane tells Sonny that Real Jason rejected her strategy. It’s unlike him, but she did suggest temporary insanity. Sonny says he would have beat up Franco too, and Diane says just think of all the hours she could have billed for the both of them. She tells him that Dr. Klein is being arraigned, and Real Jason told her that if he wants answers, start with Klein.

Jordan calls Curtis, who tells her the case he’s working on got heavier than expected. He asks for a raincheck. She understands, and hopes he’s not getting into trouble. He’s like, who, me? never, as he’s breaking into Franco’s office at the hospital.

Other Jason asks Sam how she’s holding up, and she says good. He says with everything going on with the other guy, and Sonny and Carly, he’s been focused on making sure people know who he is. He hadn’t thought about how hard it is on her. Sam says it’s definitely not how she thought the launch party would end up. Other Jason says he’ll figure it out. He’ll find out what this fraud wants. He realized this stranger is right about one thing – he’s part of a set-up, but Other Jason knows he’s her husband.

Curtis looks at a sketch of old Jason. He opens a locked cabinet, and looks through it. He finds the envelope with the death certificate.

At the desk, Franco asks Monica where Elizabeth is. She says she left, and Monica assumed she went to look for him.

The guard tells “mystery man” that he has another visitor. It’s Elizabeth. They stare at each other.

On Monday, Scotty tells Alexis that Julian was beaten up, Cassandra decides to stay in Port Charles, and Real Jason tells Elizabeth that he’s Jason.

Once Upon a Time

Last week, the bulk of the story followed Belle and Rumpel/Gold/Beast’s story from start to finish. On her deathbed, Belle told Rumpel that once he rids himself of the dagger, he’ll find her again. He buried her in the front yard, which I found a little disconcerting. This was interspersed with Ivy losing Lucy when she took her trick-or-treating. All was well at the end, when Lucy ended up with Jacinda (who I’ve stupidly been calling Lucinda, so I’m apparently going deaf or they don’t pronounce it very well), and Henry ended up having a drink with Ivy at Roni’s. It was definitely worth watching, especially for the fairytale cottage Belle and Rumpel ended up living in, but not a whole lot was added to the plot.

Moving on…

Victoria brings a tray to her witch prisoner. She thought they might make amends. The witch says destroying Lucy’s belief must be more challenging than Victoria thought, and if Lucy doesn’t forfeit her belief, Victoria will never see Anastasia again. She sees belief as independent and solid, but it’s like a weed. It grows deep, and you have to uproot it. Victoria asks if the witch would like tea, but she snarls, saying she wants her own special brew. Victoria says she’ll get it – when Victoria gets what she wants.

Ivy is watching Lucy at the Belfry Towers reception area. Sabine comes by, and Victoria tells her that she’s decided to increase the rent. Lucy says it’s not fair, but Sabine says she can fight her own battles. If Victoria wants to push them out, they’ll push back.

Many years ago, Tiana’s mother welcomes a group to their home, telling them the auction begins shortly. Tiana says it’s humiliating, and Drizella agrees. Drizella complains that everything has been picked over already, but spies something she thinks is valuable. Tiana says it’s not for sale, and she doesn’t know how it got there. It’s a medal containing a firefly ruby; a reward for her father’s heroism. Drizella says too bad he’s not there to protect them now.

Tiana’s mother explains to her that taxes have been raised, and they need to sell everything or be homeless. She wishes Tiana could find a prince. Tiana thinks she knows where to start looking for a prince who will save them.

In Seattle, Rogers brings his box of evidence on the missing girl to Henry. It’s a cold case, but he’s been working it like a side hustle. Henry asks why it’s so important, and Roni says they all have things personal like that. Rogers takes the missing girl’s diary out of the box and wanders off with it. Roni wonders why Henry had a drink with Ivy. He thinks she might be willing to help them. Roni says she’s heard that story before, and it doesn’t end with him happy.

Sabine goes to the chicken place. She’s got great news for Jacinda – their rent is being raised. Jacinda wonders if Sabine is mispronouncing “terrible,” but Sabine thinks she has a way to turn the tables. When everyone finds out how amazing their beignets are, they’ll be rich. She dipped into the rent money for the baking supplies. Jacinda asks if she dipped in a pinch or a dash, and Sabine admits she took it all.

Rogers reads the diary, and looks at a drawing of a castle window. He walks into the station, and sees a fist fight between a cop and a perp. The cop knocks the perp out, and tells Rogers he found the guy at the Pleasure Island Cabaret. Rogers realizes the guy has a tattoo that looks like a drawing in the diary.

Sabine tells Jacinda that Louie won’t be back from his convention for a while, and they can base their pastry operation out of Mr. Cluck’s. He’ll never know. Jacinda loves that Sabine is a dreamer, but she thinks it’s too risky; she needs her job. Sabine tells her that she needs to take the risk for Lucy. They owe it to her. When you love someone, you fight for them. Jacinda agrees, and they hug.

Back in the day, Tiana walks through the shady side of town, and comes to a cottage. She tells one of the people that she’s looking for the traveling soothsayer. She’s recognized, and the townspeople gather around her with their hands out. Dr. Facilier appears, and says she’s there to see him, and the crowd disperses.

He welcomes her into a cottage decorated like a fortune telling den. He tells her a prince is in her cards, and soon to be in her arms. He’ll make her troubles evaporate. She asks how he knew, and he says it’s his job, and he has a few friends on the other side. He shakes out some runes. He reads them, saying it’s the story of a princess whose father passed away. The story turns darker, and their wealth dried up. The people suffered without a strong ruler; that’s why she’s come to him. The prince will save her and he’s going to give her the kingdom discount for desperate souls. He tells her the path is clear, and she’ll find the price she seeks this very night. Just follow the red crow.

Fast forwarding, Ivy brings some herbs to Victoria at the office. She complains, and Victoria tells her not to thinks she wouldn’t trade in her daughter for an actual assistant. She tells Ivy to shut up and earn her job title. When Victoria is gone, Ivy looks on the monitor and watches as she pushes a secret button in the elevator. The side of the cab opens, and Victoria steps into the secret room where she’s holding the witch. Ivy leaves a message for Henry, saying if he still wants dirt on her mother, she has a good idea where to start.

Henry tells Roni that he has a lead. Victoria has been spending time in a secret room on top of Belfry Towers. Roni wonders what’s worse – him believing Ivy or falling for her, when there’s a better, single mother staring him in the face. Henry appreciates her mama bear routine, but not hers, Roni says if she was there, she’d tell him to get back to writing, take Jacinda on a date, and tip her well for the advice. Henry leaves his phone on the bar. Roni sees a text come in – Belfry lobby now – and says she’s on her way, deleting it before she leaves.

Sabine and Jacinda bake up a storm for their pop-up shop. Lucy comes in. She says it’s amazing, but she has a small addition, showing them a firefly stamp. She says that Sabine told her since she couldn’t afford stars, she wished on fireflies. Sabine tells her to stamp all the bags with their official logo. Jacinda suggests doing a farmer’s market next, but Sabine thinks they should get a food truck. They’re finally headed in the right direction.

In the enchanted forest, Tiana says there’s no such thing as red crow. Yes, there is, but not that kind. She sees a tavern with a sign that says The Crimson Crow, and goes inside. A man approaches her, saying he guesses the auction fell short, and he’ll take her earrings – at a discount. A prince steps in, telling him to bow and show respect. She might not be a princess any more, but she’s still a lady. He threatens the man with his sword, and he backs off. He introduces himself as Prince Marius, but tells her to call him Robert. She’s grateful, and not deserving of a nobleman’s heroism. He hopes to be deserving of her company. He says getting rid of a tipsy rogue is simple, but seeing why their paths crossed is more difficult. He asks her to have dinner with him.

In the sort-of real world, Victoria eats one of the beignets, and she loves it. Until she realizes she loves it. She calls a guy named Ralph, telling him she has a job for him. She says there’s a place selling beignets, and she wants him to wreck it. Ha-ha! Wreck-It Ralph.

Rogers asks the perp about his tattoo, telling him it’s a drawing in a notebook from a missing person, Eloise Gardener. He asks the perp if the name sounds familiar, but he says he was serving a sentence elsewhere when she disappeared. He tells Rogers it’s a sign to ward off evil. Rogers tells him it’s more trouble than it’s worth to press charges, so he’s free to go. The perp tells Rogers it’s a powerful rune, and he’d hate to meet what she was facing.

At Mr. Cluck’s, the patrons keep coming. Sabine says their business is on fire. Jacinda smells something, and says she hopes that’s not literal. The run into the kitchen, and everything is burning. They try to put it out, but it’s already out of control. Sabine pulls the fire alarm.

In the world of Tiana’s castle, Robert loves the view. Tiana says her father spent his lifetime building the kingdom. Robert sees the firefly ruby, and says her father was quite the hero. She tells him that her father was a cook until he was the only one left. He threw down his ladle, and picked up a sword, and that’s how the war was won. He also won her mother’s heart. She says now they’re losing it all, but Robert says not if he can help it. He wants to see her again. He leaves, and Tiana sees the ruby is gone. She runs out, telling him to stop, and throws something at his head. He tells her he had no choice. Dr Facilier wanted him to steal it. He’s just a commoner, and Facilier is holding his true love captive; she’s a frog. Tiana says there must be another way. She tells him to go. She never wants to see him again.

Tiana’s mother approaches her on the balcony. Tiana says she was self-centered, and saw the world the same way. Her mother says they tried to protect her; there was no way she could have known how bad it had gotten. Tiana says all her life she was told stories of her father’s success, but once she took action, she realized they have everything they need. Her mother says the people need a legacy, but it isn’t the medal. It’s her; embrace it.

In Hyperion Heights, Lucy sees the firetrucks outside the restaurant. Sabine says it’s just a setback, and Jacinda tells her that she took a huge risk, and looks what happened. Sabine says she just wants what’s best for Jacinda and Lucy, but Jacinda says she doesn’t live in real world. There’s no room for crazy dreams. Lucy tells Jacinda that Sabine just tried to help, and Jacinda says she doesn’t need that kind of help. Sabine gives her the cashbox, and says there’s enough money for ten months’ rent (that’s a lot of beignets!). In that time, she can find a new job – and a new roommate. She walks away.

Roni tells Ivy to put away the war paint; Henry’s not coming. She’s stopping the game before it starts. She asks if Ivy is trying to piss off her mom or take one more thing away from Jacinda. Ivy asks why she’s interested, and Roni says she knows enough to know good kid, and won’t let him mess up his life. Ivy says she’s risked a lot, and if her mom finds out, she’ll be cleaning toilets for real. Roni says if she’s eager to destroy her mom, prove it. Ivy tells Roni to follow her, and brings her to the secret room. There’s a setting for tea, and Roni thinks it’s a strange place for it. She wonders if she’s wasted her time, and then says, maybe not. She opens a locker and sees a photo.

Sabine tells Lucy that she’s going to crash on her mom’s couch. They can’t make it; they keep trying and failing. Lucy says that’s what Victoria wants her to think, but she can’t give up on her dream. Sabine says sometimes bad guys win, and we have to grow up. Lucy says she’s not growing up; she’s running away. She’s supposed to be with them, like she always is. Sabine tells Lucy she’ll always have her, but there are some things in life even she can’t fight.

Reeling back the years, Tiana goes to Dr. Facilier. She’ll give him the firefly ruby in exchange for the kidnapped woman. He points to a frog in a cage, and says, her?  It’s quite a sacrifice for a lowly frog. The ruby is powerful. It transformed a cook into a prince, and caused a princess to make a sacrifice for a man she doesn’t know. He asks why the transformation, and she says she didn’t realize who she was. She says there’s no magic in it, and Facilier tells her it will set him free. He’s in a prison, trapped with one foot here and one in another place. Everything in the cottage starts to tremble. He says he’s keeping the ruby, but he’ll never let the frog go. Tiana says she’s not leaving without the frog, but Facilier stabs a voodoo doll, and she doubles over. He says it feels good to be back. She knocks over the table, and grabs the frog, holding Facilier at bay with a sword. He squeezes the ruby and disappears, poof! in a puff of black smoke.

In modern times, Jacinda apologizes to Sabine. Every time the miserable world gets her down, Sabine picks her up. She didn’t realize Sabine needs picking up once in a while, starting with this – Jacinda shows her a food truck. Sabine asks how she did it, and Jacinda says Rogers helped her out with the auction, and she used the rent money. She took a big risk, like Sabine taught her to, doing what friends do – help each other.

In not-Seattle, Tiana brings Robert his frog. She figured out she doesn’t need a hero if she can be one. He says she sounds like her father, and she’s on the right path. She tells him the king is holding a ball, and she’s going to use the opportunity to turn the tide. She hopes he and his lady will join her, after true love’s kiss. Robert says he kind of misled her. He puts the frog in her hand, thanks her, and kisses the frog. Then he becomes a frog. Tiana puts them together, and they hop into the pond and swim off. I saw it coming, but that didn’t make it any less precious. Cutest. Frog. Couple. Ever.

Back in Seattle, Jacinda goes to the station, and Rogers reminds her the truck is from an impound auction, and she should clean it well. He tells her heat distorted the film in the security cameras. He has a good idea of who caused it. They agree it was someone Victoria hired, since she wouldn’t want to get a smudge on her blazer. The tattooed perp is making a phone call across the street. He says they have a problem. Someone is looking for the girl.

Victoria sees a photo of the truck on Instagram. When Ivy asks if there’s anything she can do, Victoria belittles her.

Henry walks into the bar (not the start of a joke), and Roni has something to show him. She tells him that she answered a text to him from Ivy, and met her at Belfry Towers. She knows it was wrong, but she wanted to know if they could trust her. He asks if they can, and she says maybe. She tells him that she found this while she was there, and shows him the picture. It’s a picture of Regina and Henry. Roni says she’s never owned clothe like this, and has no idea who the kid is. Henry says it’s him.

Ivy goes to secret room. She calls out for the witch, who startles her by coming up behind her. She knocks over the tea set, and say, lurk much?  She suggests getting the witch a stylist, since she looks like Lucy in Sweeney Todd (my description). The witch asks if they trust her, and Ivy says as much as her mother does. She calls Victoria a fool, and says she’s doing a good job of convincing Victoria that she’s the one in charge. She might not see how clever Ivy is, but the witch does. She tells he witch to play the charade until the end. The witch says Ivy knows she will. Ivy tells her not to use that name anymore – she’s Drizella.

Next time, Henry explains the photo, discovering life is a lie, and the most feared villain.

Z Nation

Roberta floors it, hits a zombie, sees the black rainbow, and keeps moving.

Doc says knows it’s the apocalypse, but maybe she should slow down. She turns a sharp corner, and Doc says Murphy is going into cardiac arrest. Lucy tells her stop, but she goes faster. Lily keeps telling to stop, and she finally does, just before they hit a building. It looks like a military facility. They get out. Murphy says he’s fine, and then throws up black stuff.

They get him inside. 10K and Lily take out some zombies who are following. It’s number 8991 for 10K. They set Murphy on a table, and Doc says he’s a walking petri dish. Murphy thinks being cured six ways to hell and back should be good for something. Lucy takes his hands. Doc and 10K confer about taking precautions, thinking they should restrain him. He keels over, and Roberta takes a look at his bite. Lucy says she has to try and save him, and bites him. 10K says he has a pulse. Murphy sits up, but passes out again. Roberta tells Lucy to bite him again, and she does. Murphy says he’s not dead yet. Doc thinks it’s working.

Lily is trying to keep the door closed, and says there’s more of a crowd. 10K goes outside with her. Roberta starts to look around the building. She comes to a room with computers, with decomposed bodies sitting at the keyboards. That would be my luck. She says, square key, and takes a key ring.

Doc keeps slapping Murphy, saying, stay with me. Murphy tells him to quit it.

Roberta travels the hallways. Doc bandages Murphy’s bite. Murphy says he’s better thanks to his little girl. Lucy says her hands are all wrinkly. They look at her, and she’s changing. She’s getting older.

Murphy sits up, and throws up again. Lucy looks at herself. She says it’s okay; it’s happened before, and it’s her business. Murphy says the biting is killing her. She can’t do it again. Lucy says he’s not the boss of her. Murphy says he’s her father. Her life is more important. She asks why he won’t let someone save him for once, calling him The Savior of Mankind. He says not anymore. Lucy thinks Roberta is in trouble. She feels something strange.

10K and Lily come back. Lily says they were doing M&M, mayhem and mercy. Doc tells them he wants to see if Roberta needs back up. They notice Lucy has changed. Lucy stays with Murphy, while they go down the hallways. Lily notes there’s a smell worse than death. Roberta continues on through the building. She sees a door keypad that’s wrecked, and she opens the door with a fire extinguisher. Doc wants to join 10K and Lily. Murphy doesn’t sound good, but tells him to find her. Doc tells Lucy no biting.

Roberta gets the handle off the door, and enters. It’s a lab. She sees a hand in an aluminum pan. She opens another door, and it’s the landscape in her mind. A zombie appears behind her.

Lucy looks in the mirror. She tells Murphy she wants to hear about her mother, Serina. She’s heard Addie’s and Doc’s version, but doesn’t trust it. She wants to know the truth. Murphy says her mother was living with group of women for protection. It was four years ago, when things were still wild, and they thought they were going to die. There was no tomorrow, so they lived for today. Lucy wonders if they just hooked up, but Murphy says Serina was a good friend. They went through a lot together, and he did love her. Not at first, but they saw each other again, and Lucy was born. Serina was fiercely protective, and fought like honey badger to protect her. Lucy brought out her motherly instinct, and Serina would have been proud of her. Lucy says, but she died. Murphy says she died protecting her. Some things are worth dying for. Lucy wants him to explain what it means, there was pie, but he passes out.

Roberta walks through the landscape. She sees some kind of metal unit. She’s back in the lab. She puts in a code next to the unit, and slides a metal window up. There’s a tube inside, and she unscrews it from its base. She injects herself with something, and collapses.

10K and Lily continue to walk. They go through a big room where experiments are done. There’s steel shelving lined with body parts in jars, a row of animated hands, and zombies with parts missing on gurneys. 10K doesn’t know who’s responsible, but he doesn’t like them. Lily says, roger that. They hear something. Lily asks what that was, and 10K tells her to take her pick.

Roberta opens her eyes. She realizes what she’s done. She sees beakers and jars containing experiments, brains and an arm attached to electrodes. She sees a desk and there’s a jacket on the back of the chair. She’s sees an ID for Dr. Caligari.

Murphy is convulsing. Lucy bites him again, but he tells her to stop and save herself. He wants her to promise, but she won’t. He starts to cry. He says she’s the only one he’s loved besides him; she’s one of a kind. He convulses some more, and she doesn’t know what to do.

Doc walks through the experiment room, and says more scientific shenanigans. Give a guy a lab coat, and he’ll screw things up every time. He calls to 10K and Roberta. He sees the partial zombies and animated hands, and says he can’t unsee that. He looks at a jar of eyeballs, remarking you can’t have too many of those. He wonders what in zombie hell these people are up to, and why. He notices a tail, and asks why it always has to be crazy evil sh*t. Why can’t they find a bakery for once? Is it too much to ask? He hears something, and looks all around. He bangs into a shelf, knocking over dozens of animated fingers, and says anything but that. He hits at them with a hammer, but one manages to dig its way into his side (ouch!). 10K and Lily hear him yelling, and he says there’s a finger in him; get it out! It keeps moving around, and 10K says it’s too fast. They manage to isolate it, and 10K slices into Doc, and it pops out. Lily says, die, mother finger, and steps on it. That was definitely the oh sh*t moment of tonight, or at least this half hour.

10K says they were looking for Roberta, but heard him yelling, and came back. Doc says he heard something breathing. They look slowly around, and see something behind one of the shelves.

10K says it seems as afraid of them as they are of it. Doc says not to shoot; they might wake something worse up. 10K wonders if they can go around it. It steps out, and it’s a gigantic zombie with extra arms, like an Indian goddess on steroids. Doc says, frankenzombie. 10K punches it, and it lifts him up by the throat. Lily tries to stab it, but it gets her with another arm. There’s a face in its stomach. Doc hits it with a hammer, and it drops the other two, and grabs Doc. They should have guessed right away they would just irritate it with these feeble attempts.

Roberta goes through papers and files, and finds a gun. She looks through some journals, and sees pictures and drawings of the experiments. We see a photo of the doctor and a friend.

Lucy keeps Murphy warm. He asks if she’s seen their baby, thinking she’s Serina. Lucy calls him “daddy,” saying he’s making a mistake. He says he knows; he never should have left her alone when she was pregnant. His biggest mistake was breaking up their family. Lucy says it’s okay; don’t worry. He doesn’t think Lucy will forgive him for leaving her with strangers. She turned out okay, strong and brave like Serina. He asks where Lucy is, and Lucy says she’ll come back soon. He says she’s the best, and she tells him that he’s not so bad himself. He calls her his little baker, and starts to convulse again.  He laughs about blueberry pie, and throws up. Lucy yells for help.

Super zombie throws everyone around, and punches Doc. Lily shoots him, but he has an automatic weapon, and begins to shoot back. He never runs out of ammo, because his other arms hand him new clips. Doc says this is no regular Z, and he pounds on his chest like King Kong.

Lucy does chest compression, wondering how this works. She looks at Murphy’s bite, and cries. She says he can’t leave her again.

Mega-zombie has Lily by the throat. 10K hits it with stool, and he throws it back. Doc tries to hit it with a metal thing, but it knocks Doc out. I go, ooh! Lily begins to pass out, and we hear Roberta say, Charlie Baker, Roberta. The zombie turns around, and she holds a gun on him. She asks where Dr. Caligari is, and does he understand. The zombie nods. She hears someone say, I’m here. The zombie turns his back to her, and the doctor’s face is there. Well… I don’t even know what to say.

Murphy opens his eyes, and says he feels great. His bite wound is gone. He tells Lucy to wake up; he’s cured. She’s now an old woman. He asks what she’s done, and sees the bites she gave him. She says it’s all right; she can feel him again. He takes her hand. They smile at each other, tears in their eyes.

Dr. Caligari asks what they’re doing there. Roberta says they came to see him. He asks how she knows his name, and she says she was in his office and saw a picture of him and Charlie. She asks if he knows her, and he asks her to come closer. I hold my breath, but he says, no. (He’s wearing glasses, btw.) She asks if he’s certain she’s never been there. He asks how she got the canister; it was locked in his office. Roberta says she knew the combination, but doesn’t know what it is. He says if she knew what it did, she would be a dangerous woman, and Doc says she already is. Charlie snaps his teeth, and Doc says just sayin’.

Roberta asks what happened, and Dr. Caligari says his knowledge exceeded his wisdom. Isn’t that always the way? He was graphting zombie tissue to humans, hoping to pass on their superior genetic qualities – immortality. 10K says that’s insane, and the doctor says, in retrospect. Roberta asks how he and Charlie happened, and we see as he explains. He says they were both bitten by another assistant, and became infected. Charlie turned quickly, and it was too late to save him, but he was able to chop off his own hand before the infection spread. He mercied Charlie, and used his graphting discovery to attach Charlie’s hand to his arm. It became a part of his body, passing on the immunity. But something went wrong. Instead of the hand becoming part of his body, the zombie cells grew out of control. Charlie was growing from his hand, taking over his body as host. This was five years ago, and this is all that’s left of him.

Dr. Caligari asks why Roberta is there, and she says to find this. She says she has to go, an the doctor asks her to wait; he needs something from her. He whispers something to her that we don’t hear. She looks at him, and pats his hand. One of them anyway. He kneels down and holds out his arms. Roberta says, we give you mercy, and they all shoot.

Murphy cries, holding Lucy. She tells him not to cry; it’s all right. Aw. Can’t somebody do something? She says it’s almost over. He tells her not to say that, and she says she had a good life – her life. She’d promised Addie that they’d stick together. She wants Murphy to tell Addie that she tried. She closes her eyes. Murphy cries, and I tear up, which is more than I did for Glenn and Abe on The Walking Dead. Sorry.

The others come back. Roberta kneels down by Murphy. She cries, and kisses Lucy’s forehead. She touches Murphy’s face, and he turns away.

Murphy covers Lucy, and carries her out. The others follow. The door closes. A sad song plays, about saying goodbye too soon.

Next time, crazy ass clowns say let the games begin, and Doc doesn’t think they mean parcheesi.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Shahs of Sunset – Reunion Part Two

I’m still trying to get over the fact Destiney was on People’s Couch and I didn’t realize it.

Asa asks Reza if he believes her about not getting IVF treatments to have her son. He does, but hates himself for having doubts. She says she and MJ aren’t friends like that. Shervin says Asa doesn’t reciprocate, and that’s why MJ is hurt. Asa insists MJ never wanted good for her, and crossed the line. We flash back to MJ not wanting to hug her after finding out she’s pregnant. MJ says she was shocked and disappointed that it was six months before any of them were included. Asa tells MJ she’s lost all respect for her. Reza tells Asa that she doesn’t understand MJ and what she’s been going through. MJ tells Asa about crocheting a blanket for baby Soltan, and Asa says, the bastard child. They break for lunch.

Backstage, Mike is upset, and GG says it seems like Asa hates them. MJ brings up Asa’s comment on racism, and Mike jokingly asks if she’s talking about him. Asa overhears and isn’t happy. GG asks for the paramedics. She’s having a panic attack, and says she just smoked some weed. She tells the paramedic how cute he is.

Back to the reunion. Andy says it was a season of new beginnings for GG. Her anger levels turned down, but not completely off. A viewer asks about GG’s sobriety. She says she was never practicing sobriety, and shows us her vaporizer. We flash back to her fight with her sister Layla on Thanksgiving, and GG says she can’t anymore. Mike doesn’t think the relationship can be healed – there’s been too much damage. We find out he’s hooked up with Layla in the past. Andy is surprised that Reza and GG reconciled. Reza says hating her was taking up energy and space in his head and heart, and was a lot of work. He either had to let it go or let her go. GG doesn’t think it would have happened if his friends hasn’t pointed out to him that she’d changed. Reza tells us that they were just in Palm Springs together. Now the song Layla will be my earworm for a while. You’re welcome.

We revisit GG getting her hearing aid. She didn’t know how deaf she was, but notices now when the batteries need to be replaced. Andy says by the time he found her wedding registry, he heard the marriage was over. Reza is willing to guarantee that there are relatives on Shalom’s side who didn’t want to go to the wedding, and that’s why they just had a civil ceremony. GG says she kept asking if he was sure things were cool with Shalom’s family, and he insisted it was. Andy asks where things are at now, and she tells him that they’re trying to get to know each other, since they didn’t before. Wow – that’s some ring. Andy reminds her that she has a Shalom tattoo, and she claims she doesn’t regret it, but talks about a fight they had and how she slashed the tattoo to show him that she didn’t care. Mike says that’s some serious sh*t. She says information came out that he’d been married before, and applied for a green card. A lot of people thought that was his reason for wanting to marry her. His ex was also on the reality show Dash Dolls about the Kardashian boutique.

Andy says, guess what? We invited Shalom here! GG is mad, and everyone is surprised. Shalom comes out, and Andy asks how he would define their relationship. He says they’re working on it and trying to figure it out. Andy asks if him snapchatting his abs to her was the deciding factor. and brings up the green card issue. Shalom says there are plenty of women he could marry for that reason, and they’d accept a cheaper ring. Andy asks if he’s attracted to women on reality shows, but he says his ex was only on one for about two weeks. We flash back to Shalom being upset about GG kissing her scene partner in the play. Shalom says it was really bad, and he apologized to everyone. He comes from Persian/Jewish family, and 90% were against him getting married. After a few drinks and people talking in his ear, he realized he had a proposal happening in Times Square. Asa says it was weird. Andy asks why they broke up, and Shalom doesn’t know. GG says whether it was true or not, the gossip was hurting her, but he only sees it from his point of view. She tells him that he got overbearing, and when they got married, she got a call from E! News, saying Shalom wanted to do a story. Shalom says one day she loves him, and the next, she hates him. Shervin asks why try again, and he says he still loves her. He’s confused about her feelings though. Andy points out they don’t have a prenup. Reza says he’s a good guy. He likes GG, but likes Shalom more. Mike says together they might be like oil and water, even if they’re both good people. GG says at this point they’re going to see if something is worth saving. They’re taking it one day at a time. Andy says the good news is, she’ll always have the tattoo. خداحافظ, Shalom. (That’s goodbye in Persian.)

They talk moms. Reza says Mike’s mom is more thug than all the rest put together. Andy ask if Mike relies on her too much, and he says he doesn’t have to. Reza adds that she’s omnipresent in his life. Andy asks why there’s an obsession with Mike’s dool and where it goes. Mike corrects that to where they think it goes, and says it started in Mexico, and never stopped. We flash back to MJ catching a glimpse of “Russel the love muscle.” Mike thinks it’s funny, and Reza says it’s like that one shady relative you have who’s always up to no good.

Andy reads a raise your hand viewer question, and tells them raise their hands if they think Mike is as much of a man whore as ever, but only Reza thinks so. Next, Andy asks who thinks he’s slept with Jessica in the past year. That would be everyone. Mike says it’s complicated. It’s sad, and he felt it ended prematurely because of how he treated her, but now he’s the better version of Mike. Andy asks if he’s seen the email Jessica sent to his mom, but he says no, and has never brought it up. MJ wonders why. He says his mom stepped in when Jessica lost hers. They had a connection outside of him, and it was between them. He doesn’t feel it’s his business. Reza thinks Jessica feels that if it’s not cool with his mom, it’s not cool with Mike. Mike says been divorced for about a year, and they’ve both dated. The whole thing broke his heart, and he cries when he watches the show. Andy asks what’s the number one thing he learned. Mike says a lot, but the main thing is you have to be open and honest in a relationship, and be present and real.

Adam joins the group – his first reunion. He and Reza just celebrated a year of marriage, and Andy asks what Adam thinks of the new Reza. He says he has more closet space since Reza lost weight. Andy asks who he’s closest to out of the friends, and Adam says Asa has become a close friend. She’s the one person who reached out to him after Thailand. GG says Reza has changed a lot. In the beginning, he was rebellious, but he’s calmed down. Mike says his tone is different, and the way he talks about Adam. He wants to be a better person because of Adam. MJ says he fights hard daily to make himself better. A viewer asks if he’s been faithful, and Reza says 100%. He did the don’t ask don’t tell in another relationship, and it didn’t work, but there might come a time for that conversation down the road. Andy points out how upset Adam was about Reza using the divorce card; he felt disposable. Ada says it brought up Thailand for him again, and was hurtful. It’s one thing to think it, but another to say it to your partner. A viewer thinks it’s weird that Reza compares being faithful to alcoholism, using the one day at a time credo. Reza says it helps him as a person who had infidelity in his life.

They discuss what religion their child will be, and Adam says he’s converting to Judaism. Andy asks if having a baby pings Reza’s commitment issues. Reza prays they’ll be together for the long haul, since he comes from a broken home. Adam says he plans for future, but it’s always one day at a time (the phrase of the night). Mike commends it, and loves them both.

Reza says they’ve decided on surrogacy, and adoption can be an option later. They sold their house in Palm Springs, and just closed on a new one, which is a surprise to everybody. Mike says that explains why Reza has been MIA. Reza says once they move in, they can deal with baby stuff. Mike is upset that he didn’t tell them, but he wanted it to be a surprise. Reza says now Mike knows how he felt about Asa’s pregnancy. Asa mentions she didn’t even know Mike had a company until she saw him with the shoes.

Andy tells us Asa’s reluctance to share was a sore point this season, but has bubbled up in the past. He asks about MJ being offended, and MJ says she’s been open, and it hurt her feelings that Asa wasn’t. Reza says as friend he gets it, but as for being a cast member on a reality show, it’s effed up. From that aspect, it bothers him. From friend aspect, he loves Jermaine, who never has negative word to say. Asa says he has his own right not to sign a contract. She tells them that she’s been open about financial struggles, and was labeled the poor one, even though that wasn’t exactly the case. That’s why people are rooting for her success now. GG says it’s a contradiction, how she claims she doesn’t want to get involved, but wants to know everything that happens with the others. She asks why Asa is on the show. Asa says it’s says amazing platform, and GG says the rest of them are bleeding for the world to see, and Asa should tell her facts. Asa continues, saying she has political and social convictions, and wants as many people as possible to see that. Mike thinks its all surface stuff. He has issues with her; she brings only superficial things to the show. Everyone talks at once, so I can’t understand what anyone is saying. Andy tells Asa that’s what she brings to the show, but why is she on the show. Asa says wants her voice heard, just like anyone else. Mike asks why make him sound like racist, instead of using the opportunity to talk about her interracial relationship? He loves her, but doesn’t like the person she became this season. She insists she’s taken the side of other cast members who have been ganged up on, and calls Mike a follower. He says he stands on his own, and asks why she’s continuing if she doesn’t want to show her life? Andy says she’s at a crossroads. Jermaine doesn’t want to be on the show or have Soltan on it, so where does she go from here? Asa tells him that her brain is on her baby, and she doesn’t know. Andy asks if she still cares about her friends.

Asa talks about looking at old videos of their travels, and getting sad. It was a difficult season, and she thought they weren’t happy for her. She believes in the future, and believes there’s hope, but has thinking to do. MJ says every time she bared her soul to Asa, it was her way of being a sister and forming a lifelong friendship. She says it sucks. Asa remembers beautiful moments, but MJ’s back stabbing and being two-faced deteriorated the friendship. If there’s no loyalty or respect, there’s nothing to build on. Mike is sad for the group thinks it will change after today.

Andy asks where they go from here, and Reza says if he and GG can get from where they were to where they are now, anything can happen. At the end of the day, they’re family, and should cherish their relationships. Andy says maybe Shervin’s girlfriend will be at the next reunion. Reza wants Shervin’s publicist’s number, since he did so well with his monologues. Andy hopes Reza and Adam will be pregnant by then; MJ as well. He wonders if GG and Shalom will still be together, and she says she’s a serial monogamist.

Asa says that some of the relationships are frayed, but her most important relationship is at home. She feels changed, being responsible for her son, who won’t eat unless she feeds him. Andy attempts to says something about them all being good friends in Persian. Reza toasts to all of them. Asa can’t leave fast enough.

Backstage, MJ says it was the dumbest day of her life. Reza asks if she thinks she and Asa will reconcile, but that’s a no. Asa tells Mike that she really doesn’t think he’s a racist, and changing her tune, GG thanks Shalom for coming.

🚑 Married to Medicine will be returning next Sunday at 10 pm.

The Walking Dead

We see close-ups of the main characters from Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom.

At an outpost, the Saviors work at getting their weapons in shape. Mara tries to call Little Roy on the radio, but there’s no answer. She finally reaches Todd, and tells him to lock the stairwell on every floor. A group led by Aaron zooms up in the reinforced trucks, and shoots everything up.

Another group, led by Jesus, sees a moat of zombies outside another outpost. Morgan says they just need the right timing. If the Saviors fire first, the rest will be alerted. He tells Diane not to give them time to fire a gun. One of the others asks Morgan if he needs to be covered, but he says he doesn’t die. Okay…

Carol and Ezekiel recover from the grenade that was lobbed at them last week. Zombies are pouring out of the clinic, and the group shoots, stabs, and axes them. Carol asks where the guy with the grenade went. If he tells the Saviors they’re here, it’s over before it started. Ezekiel is confident that’s not going to happen, and they’ll find him. Their comrades are back to the staging area, and will release Shiva if necessary. He claims certain victory, and Carol looks impressed.

Aaron and his group continue shooting the place up. Aaron is really into it. Rick and Daryl get inside with a small group.

Morgan teases the zombie barricade. Two guards walk toward them to see what’s going on. Diane shoots them in the head with arrows.

Jesus, Tara, and some others go in with Morgan. Diane whistles, and the rest come in silently. Tom says kill the bitches is written on the wall. Wtf? They spread out. Morgan hears someone talking. He waits outside the door, telling the other guys with him to hold up.

Rick looks at the map. Daryl says upstairs. He kicks open a door.

Mara says the Alexandrians are too chicken sh*t to move in, and tells the Saviors to push them back. There’s lot of machine gunning, and Aaron says don’t let them through. He tells his group to move in.

Morgan and two other guys bust into a room, shooting the first guy they see. Several men pop out from behind him, and shoot them. I go, what?! because I wonder why Morgan wasn’t faster on the draw.

Daryl and Rick climb on top of an elevator cab and go to another floor. Rick says they’d be faster if they split up.

Tara and Jesus find a man alone in a room. He begs them not to shoot him. He starts sniffling, saying his name is Dean, and Tara points out he peed his pants. Tara wants to shoot, but Jesus tells her to wait; the man has his hands up. She says they have a job to do. They hear shooting, and Jesus tells her to check it out while he covers Dean.

Diane tells Tara to be ready. They don’t know if Morgan is alive. Dean tells Jesus that he’s just a worker, brought from the Sanctuary to cook and clean; he had to leave his wife and kids. Jesus tells Tara that they don’t want to hurt the workers. He’s not shooting someone with their hands up or letting her. She sees Maggie’s prenatal vitamins, and says they stole medical supplies from Hilltop just because they could. Dean takes this opportunity to grab Jesus’s gun from him, and get him in a hold. Dean tells them it’s hard to piss yourself on purpose. He crushes the vitamins, and says they’re ruined, like that dumb bitch Maggie. She’s just going to die anyway, like they are, but for now, he’s taking them with him for an insurance policy. Dean keeps talking, and apparently never saw The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, where Tuco says, “If you have to shoot, shoot, don’t talk.. While he’s babbling, Jesus gets his gun back, and ties him up. Tara still wants to kill him, saying it’s not about revenge, it’s about getting the job done, but he won’t let her, insisting Maggie will listen to him.

Diane asks Jesus if there’s another way out, and he says to follow him. It looks like Morgan is dead. Nope, not quite. The armor pieces he’s wearing saved him. He sits up, grabs his gun, and runs to catch up.

Gunfire is still happening outside. Mara realizes it’s not good for them, and one of the dead Saviors attacks her, biting out a piece of her throat.

Ezekiel’s group is in the woods looking for grenade guy. Carol says if he made it back, the Saviors know they’re coming. Ezekiel says they’ll be ready regardless. Carol asks him if he knows that it’s not just a few walkers. He says he does, yet still smiles. She asks why, and he says he has supreme confidence. His job is to project certainty. In other words, fake it till you make it. It’s what he’s done and does; he leads people forward in darkness. Carol says they might not make it or win, but Ezekiel has no fantasy of failure this day. They move forward as they move the very world forward.

Daryl sneaks around with his crossbow. I wonder how hard It must be to be sneaky with a crossbow. Props to him. He looks into a room, and sees the remains of food and handcuffs attached to a pipe. He slides back out. Rick goes down another way, and looks in a bedroom that’s empty. Suddenly a dude comes out of nowhere, and punches him out. Rick tries shooting him, but dude is too fast. Rick kicks him in the face, and he slams Rick against a wall. Rick gets him in a chokehold, and asks where they are. Dude says there are no guns. He struggles free, and Rick piggybacks him, continuing to choke him. He sees a hook on he sees a hook on the wall and impales the guy on it. Like Billy did with that guard in Midnight Express, except it’s through his eyeball.

Morgan goes through the building, shooting anything moving.

Jesus and his group circle around the back. He tells them not to shoot right away, but Diane says if they shoot first, someone dies. A Savior opens a big garage door. Jesus tells him to drop his gun and surrender. He does since there’s fifty of them to his one, but his back up comes out, and he tells them to put their guns down; they’re surrounded. Tara tells Jesus that even if Maggie listens to him, Rick will listen to her. All the Saviors lower their weapons.

Morgan keeps shooting people. I assume it’s people; we don’t actually see what he’s shooting. He looks supremely pissed. He comes out into the sunlight, and walks toward the others. In his head, he hears Rick saying, we have to come for them, before they come for us. Where there’s life, there’s possibility.  Morgan walks up to a Savior who says he knows him, and asks if he was transferred too. It’s the dude who took Morgan’s staff, and killed Benjamin. Morgan is about to shoot him, and Jesus tells him to lower the gun. Morgan says they came here to kill them; they’re supposed to. Jesus says they surrendered; it’s not what we do, and Morgan asks, what do we do? And in my head, I think, do-be-do-be-do.

Rick goes back out into another room. It’s a nursery, complete with a baby sleeping in a crib. Rick shakes his head, and I wonder if the guy he killed is her father. Rick gets all weepy like he does on occasion, and I say, there’s no time for that now, Rick. He sees himself in the mirror, and walks away.

Carol sees blood on a leaf, and they follow the trail. Is there a hairdresser in the group? Carol’s hair looks fabulous. Ezekiel says, there! and starts to run. He stops and lowers his gun. He says their friends have arrived. We see Shiva take a man down up ahead.

Aaron’s group isn’t done yet. There’s still tons of shooting going on. How many freaking people do they have? Aaron’s husband, Eric, gets shot. Aaron ducks down and runs to a car. He gets in and floors it to Eric. He asks if Eric is okay, and Eric shows him the gunshot wound. Aaron helps him out of there. Hard to tell if he’ll make it.

Ezekiel says there it is, our certain victory. He’s not glad for anyone’s death, and Carol says she knows. Knight dude, whose name I don’t remember, holds out the radio. The Saviors know they’re coming. Knight dude says the jig is up. Ezekiel says no; their journey won’t end in retreat. Knight dude says, but they know we’re coming, and Ezekiel says, indeed they do. He raises his sword and laughs. Carol smiles. Yeah, he’s cooler than cool. He’s one of my reasons for sticking with the show. Him, and Negan. And peer pressure.

Rick looks in another room. He looks at a photo, and says, dammit!  A man walks in with a gun, and tells Rick to keep his hands down, and turn around slow. The man says, hi, Rick, and Rick says, Morales. Rick says he was in Atlanta. Morales says it was a long time ago. It’s over. He called the Saviors back, and they’re coming.

We see close-ups of everyone’s faces again, like in the beginning. Everyone looks tired, but Ezekiel is still smiling. Carol is too, as much as Carol smiles.

Morales cocks his gun.

Next time, Ezekiel says their first victory will deliver the second, and the second will deliver the third. They will not lose one of their ranks. That is one optimistic guy.

October 28, 2017 – Z Nation Packed in a Crate of Weird

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Z Nation

Our beloved crew sees a truck in the middle of the road. Roberta says to move in easy; she’ll check it out with Lily. When she opens the cab door, its empty. Doc thinks it’s odd that an awesome truck was left out in the middle of nowhere, and Murphy says everything in the past eight years has been odd. Roberta asks Lucy if she picks up anything where the cargo would be, but there are no signs of life. She says if anyone is in there, they’re not zombies. The truck suddenly starts. Roberta wants to jet, but Murphy says it could be full of snacks. The truck slowly follows them, and stops when they stop, like something out of a Stephen King book.

Roberta tells Lily if anything happens, shoot the tires. She opens the cab again, and there’s a horrific screeching sound. Everyone covers their ears, and then passes out.

Roberta wakes up in a wooden crate. She bangs on the wall and yells, asking if anyone is there. An alarm sounds, the crate opens, and she emerges along with another woman and a man. The woman attacks the man, yelling for Roberta to get the key that’s on the floor. She plunges the crowbar through the guy’s head. When Roberta asks why she killed him, she says they just have one crowbar. Roberta asks what this place is, and the woman says, fresh meat, just her luck. She’s lost track of time, but thinks she’s been there about a month. Roberta tells her about the sound, and the woman tells her you can’t fight it; just do what they want. She tells Roberta to kill anything that moves, and stay out of her way.

They go down a hallway to an elevator, and the woman says they want them to clear it. She tells Roberta to use the key. When she does, we hear the elevator working, but the doors don’t open. The woman uses the crowbar to pry them apart, and a load of zombies tumble out and attack her. Roberta gets in the elevator, pushing the close door button, but forgets to bring the key. She opens the doors again, and kills the zombies. The woman is now one of them, but I guess she must have a thick skull, because the crowbar isn’t good enough. Roberta makes the elevator doors squash her head a few times, which does the trick.

Roberta hears the noise again. She wakes up in a crate, and hears Doc. He asks if she’s okay. She says she’s trapped in a crate, and he tells her that he is too. He thinks they’ve been kidnapped and enslaved for evil purposes – again. He hates when that happens. She asks if he’s seen anyone else, and he tells her only the two ugly guys he woke up with. They were killed on a suicide mission to clear a stairwell of zombies. When he killed the last one, he heard the noise again. Doc tells her they’re moving him again, and he bounces around for a while.

He comes out of the crate, and 10K comes out of another one. They see a huge wrench, a roll of duct tape, and a gas mask on the floor. Doc takes the wrench, and 10K takes the tape and mask. They move forward in the semi-darkness, and come to a room with a lot of pipes that have some kind of green gas leaking from them. They take turns using the mask. 10K uses the wrench on one of the pipes, and a zombie rushes out. He kills it, and Doc uses the tape on another pipe, while 10K dispatches another zombie.

Murphy hears Roberta, and asks her to let him out of the crate he’s in, but she says she’s trapped in a crate too. We see a room with several crates, and Murphy asks who else is there. Lucy and Lily say they are, and a man’s voice tells them to shut up; he’s trying to sleep. He says they need to be quiet, or it will get them killed. Lucy tells them there are a lot of zombies; she feels it. Roberta says it’s not the zombies she’s worried about.

Doc continues to work on the pipes, while 10K continues to kill the zombies who keep interrupting. Doc gets a face full of the gas, and keels over.

Lucy says even the zombies are afraid. Lily asks if she can determine why, but Lucy says there are too many voices and so many reasons. Lily asks if Murphy is picking up anything, but that’s a no. His zombie whispering days are over. He pulls off a piece of his scarred flesh and eats it. Ew.

10K fights off a zombie, and tells Doc to hang on. He puts the mask on Doc, and performs chest compression on him.

Lucy asks Roberta what’s wrong. Roberta says she can’t do this; she doesn’t feel so good. Murphy says she doesn’t sound so good. He tells her, no pressure, but if she goes wobbly, they all die. There’s no freaking allowed in the apocalypse. Lily has experience with PTSD, and tells Roberta she’s having a panic attack. She talks Roberta through it, and explains that she spent nine days in the trunk of a car hiding from her zombie family.

10K keeps working on Doc, and finally revives him. He says he thinks they won. The noise begins again, and everyone passes out. The crates are rearranged, and Doc and 10K are now in a crate together. Murphy asks Doc what happened, and he says they were fixing the leaks in hell’s plumbing. Doc keeps coughing, and 10K explains that he inhaled nerve gas. Roberta says they need to get out or they’ll be killed one by one. Doc asks who’s running this show, and Murphy says it has to be a Zona operation. No one else is so needlessly diabolical. Doc farts, and tells 10K, sorry. Lucy tells him to be quiet; she’s making a friend, a zombie named Carson O’Keefe. She tells him that she wants to get out, and asks if he can open the door.

The door opens, and Lucy talks to Carson. She sees a lot of crates, but no way out. The noise starts. Roberta tells them to fight it, but it’s impossible. They all pass out.

Lily is being dragged into another area. She wakes up, and a guy tells her that she’s safe. A zombie rushes him, and he kills it. He says they’ll live longer if they work as a team. She tells him if they do whatever is wanted, they can get out alive, but he thinks there’s a chance they won’t make it. He shows her that he has a gun, and says he’s looking for some human kindness. She gets the gun from him, and says she’ll blow his head off if he tries it again. He laughs, saying there are no bullets; he ran out of ammo. He comes at her, but she beats the crap out of him, and throws him into the next zombie that comes along. She’s able to get out through another door, and closes it before the zombie can get to her.

She goes up some stairs, and runs through a hallway to another stairwell. She goes into another room, but a zombie tries to follow her. She stumbles, hits her head on a bannister, and gets knocked out.

Murphy and Doc are out of the crates. Murphy says this would be more efficient if they were just told what’s wanted. Doc says the whole point is fear of the unknown. They’re trying to control them with psychological terror and creepy sounds. As they’re walking, zombies keep popping out. Murphy says if they get out of this alive – and that’s a big if – they need to have zombie come to Jesus moment with Roberta. First she gets them lost, and now they’re slaves in the zombie funhouse of death. Doc suggests they get out of there first.

10K and a woman crawl along a ladder near the ceiling that periodically descends closer to a crowd of zombies below. The woman falls, and the noise happens. 10K passes out, but luckily stays put.

Roberta exits her crate, along with a man we don’t know. A crowbar, a screwdriver, and thick electrical cord drop off a conveyor belt. The man says, shall we? and takes the crowbar, while Roberta takes the cord and screwdriver. They enter a room with a gate on the opposite wall, and several zombies that aren’t exactly all in one piece. While the stranger is dealing with a half-zombie, Roberta comes up behind him, and gets him in a chokehold, telling him to drop the crowbar. He does, and she asks how Zona is involved and if this is part of the reset. He claims ignorance, and she tells him to answer or she’ll put the screwdriver through his head. She asks again if this is part of the reset, and if it has to do with the black rainbow. He asks if she’s insane, and says Zona has nothing to do with this. This is bigger than Zona or the apocalypse. I wonder what can be bigger than an apocalypse. He says no one lives long enough to find out exactly what’s going on, but they’re after something in the complex and using them to clear the zombies. He tells her they’ll be zombies too, if they don’t get the gate open.

Roberta presses a button, but the gate is jammed. As the stranger is messing with it, Roberta says there’s a live one, and a half-zombie attacks him. I say, ooh! out loud, because it’s so creepy, wriggling fast across the floor with its spinal cord hanging out. The stranger falls, and the half-zombie jumps on him. Roberta electrocutes it using the cord, and it’s a thrilling moment.

Lily wakes up, and the zombie that was following her is dead. She hears a noise from the top of the stairs. She begins to walk up, and sees daylight. She asks where it came from, and walks toward the source, but the noise happens.

Everyone wakes up in a cage that’s surrounded by zombies, except for Lily, who is still unconscious. Murphy asks what fresh hell this is, and the stranger says it’s feeding time. A giant metal tube unleashes a load of what looks like kibble. The stranger starts eating. I was joking, but Doc eats a piece and says it’s dog food. Chicken with notes of corn; Puppy Chow. 10K loves dog food, and says Puppy Chow is his thing. He and Doc talk about a bag of Gravy Train they found once. Doc says he can taste it now. With water and warmed by the sun, it’s the next best thing to home cooking.

Roberta wonders why the zombies are so blasé, and the stranger says they’re kept well-fed, but step outside, and they’ll attack. She asks what they’re fed, and the stranger says not dog food. Lily comes to, and Doc gives her some kibble. She tells them that she found a bird, and Roberta says if a bird can get in, there’s a way out. Murphy asks to see the bird, and turns his back after Lily gives it to him. Doc asks if he ate it, and he says no, but coughs out a couple of feathers. Roberta says if Lily saw daylight, they have a chance. She asks if Lily could find her way back. Doc remembers seeing an emergency exit, and they make a map using the kibble. Everyone adds whatever landmarks they remember, and they form an escape plan. Roberta tells them to memorize the map, and make their way to the rendezvous point. The noise happens, and Roberta says they have to fight their way to the surface.

Roberta comes out of her crate to a strobe light and Murphy. He tells her they have a rope, a bowling pin, and a blowtorch. This is like a bizarro game of Clue. They walk through what looks like a basement. Roberta and Murphy are mysteriously separated. Murphy’s flashlight starts to die, and a zombie comes up behind him. He knocks it in the head with the bowling pin. He and Roberta are suddenly back together. They walk up a flight of stairs. Doc, 10K, and Lily meet them, and Doc asks if they’re sure this is the right stairwell. Murphy says he doesn’t hear any birds, and a bird poop plops on his shoulder. He says, crap, literally, as he brushes it off.

Murphy asks where Lucy is. Roberta says to keep moving; maybe she’s ahead of them. They get to the roof, and the door opens to a wheat field. They see six crates in the distance, and the noise happens.

I just keep saying what the hell? over and over.

We see a room with a million crates in it. Murphy asks what they do now, and Doc says he’s going to curl up and die. Roberta says nobody is going to die. She may not know much or pretend to understand what she does know, but certain death in this place isn’t their fate. She knows something bad is coming, and she’s supposed to stop it. She doesn’t know why; she just feels it, the way she felt when she first saw Murphy. She didn’t know how why or what was coming next, but knew her job was to get him wherever he was going.

Lucy busts open Murphy’s crate. She’s with Carson, and they get everyone out. She says the zombies won’t hurt them, and Carson knows the way. They start going up some stairs, but the stranger comes busting through the door with a woman. They’re armed, and he tells the group to freeze. He doesn’t want to, but he’s supposed to stop them. He grabs Lucy, and says, everyone back. Roberta tells him that’s not going to happen, and Carson tackles him. His gun goes off, shooting the woman with him. Carson and the woman start feeding on the stranger. Lucy tries to get to Carson, but Murphy pulls her back, saying she can’t help them now.

They get outside to the field, and Roberta tells them to run, now. As they reach the road, Murphy falls, and they realize he’s been bitten. He’s sweaty and shaking, and Doc says he thought Murphy was immune. Roberta tells him not anymore, and asks Murphy if he can walk. He tells her that he can try, and they help him up.

They find the truck, and a car has been left there from the last group of victims. They get in it, and speed off with Roberta driving. Murphy is going in and out of consciousness. Lucy asks Doc to help him, and Doc asks Roberta what to do, but she’s mesmerized by the black rainbow in her mind.

Next time, Frankenzombie experiments.

😵 I’m assuming, since stranger dude said this was bigger than the apocalypse, we’ll revisit what went on in this episode in the future. I swear I wasn’t drunk when I wrote this. It was really that incomprehensible. Lots of thrills, but quite the puzzlement.

October 24, 2017 – Sonny’s Safe House, Esperanza Gets Her Groove On & the Fifth Charter Ends

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nelle drops by Michael’s office. She tells him he left his watch at her place. He says he has his phone, and she tells him maybe subconsciously she wanted to see him. She says he’s been spending a lot of time at her place, and asks if he wants to make things more permanent.

Jordan tells Curtis she has two weeks off in January. He says they can take a vacation together.

Andre tells Dr. I’ve-been-spelling-his-name-wrong Klein that someone is getting close to the truth. If they connect a few more dots, they’ll know everything. Klein says they have to meet. Andre says he’s on his way. He runs into Elizabeth and Jake outside his door, but tells her now isn’t a good time.

Carly tells Sonny that Jason made a point of distancing himself, and now his phones are tapped. Sonny says it’s just the people around him, which is unusual. Carly says tonight is their last hurrah. She gets it’s good for them to stay away from her and Sonny, but it makes her sad. She misses how things used to be. She misses Jason. Sonny says speaking of which, and shows her the note. He asks what she thinks.

Franco works on his sketch. Ava pops in, saying he’s just the man she’s looking for. She thanks him for helping Kiki with her tuition. He surpassed her wildest expectations. He says Kiki is a good kid with a promising future. Ava wants to see what he’s working on.

Patient 6 goes to a cabin that’s one of Sonny’s safe houses. An alarm starts to beep.

Elizabeth tells Andre they can schedule something for later. Jake asks if this is about the man in the park. This peaks Andre’s interest, and he says just give him a minute. Jake sees the painting and says, cool. Andre says he’s in his office more than home, so decided to keep it there. He asks what’s going on. Jake says his dad said no one was there, but he saw a man who looked like his dad used to before.

Carly asks Sonny if Jason didn’t send this, and he tells her that Ava brought it. She met a guy in a Russian clinic who turned up in Port Charles, and asked her to hand deliver it to him. Carly says she’s lying, and Sonny says well, it’s Ava. Carly doesn’t understand the reference to forty dollars. Sonny explains after the Quartermaines brought Jason home from the hospital, the were at Luke’s. Jason didn’t want to be there, and flipped a table and walked out. He reminded Sonny of himself when he was young – desperate, along and pissed off at the world.  Carly never saw him like that, since she met him after he left the Quartermaines. Sonny says he felt pressured and wanted out, so he gave Jason forty bucks for a cab. It was the start of their friendship and the best forty bucks he ever spent – loaned, since he insisted on paying him back. Carly says he never told her about this. How could someone know to mention it. Sonny says that’s why he’s trying to figure it out.

Patient 6 puts in the code to stop the alarm.

Franco tells Ava that he’s just doodling. She says she knows inspiration when she sees it. She’s reopening the gallery and would like to represent him again. He says he’s not making art for the commercial world, just doing self-prescribed art therapy. Ava looks at the sketch, and says she knows him. Franco says everybody knows Jason Morgan, the original version.

Jordan and Curtis settle on going to Fiji. Jordan gets a message from Stella, asking her to meet at the hospital as soon as possible. Curtis says maybe she and Stella have turned a corner. Jordan says he can’t believe that, and he tells her that he’s an eternal optimist. She says she might as well go now, and tells him to find a vacation package. When she’s gone, his phone rings. He answers, then says, oh man.

Nelle tells Michael that ashamed as she is, she’s glad everything is out. He says they’re still standing. She says she thought she had to be close to perfect to keep people from thinking the worst, and it’s exhausting always being on point. His faith has done wonders for her. She’s able to let guard down for the first time, and has never been with anybody or had anyone accept her for her, including Zack. She always had to prove herself worthy, but not with Michael. She says she feels close to him, and that’s why she suggested they live together. He asks what the landlord would think, and she says it’s 2017, and she has powers of persuasion with landlord. They kiss.

Franco tells Ava that she came to Port Charles after Jason went missing, and never saw him before. How could she know him from then? Ava says she knew she recognized face, and must have seen an old photo. She wonders why Franco is sitting there sketching Jason’s old face, and Franco says he knew him when. He tells her that he’s working something out. She looks through the sketch pad with page after page of Jason sketches. He tells her it’s personal and he’s busy. She thanks him again, and repeats that she’d like to represent him if he changes his mind.

Carly doesn’t get it. why go to the trouble of forging a note and have Ava deliver it? It defeats the purpose, since he’d be suspicious. Sonny says that some people know about the ashes, but no one knows about Luke’s. He says he went to the footbridge, and Jason came along thinking it was a set-up. They never met though. Troy said he showed up, and had a clear shot at them, but didn’t take it. Carly asks if Troy described him, but Sonny says it sounded like a million other men; Troy doesn’t have a gift for description. Jason thinks it was an ambush, but Sonny doesn’t. He thinks the note was meant to get his attention, and wants to know who sent it.

Patient 6 opens the bar and takes out a zippered pouch. He’s either going to make a cocktail or clean his gun. Gun cleaning wins.

Michael has to get back to work, but says Nelle gave him something to think about. She says he can thank her tonight; she has a big surprise. He tells her that he’s stopping by the launch party after work, but she tells him that Nina got tickets for Dear Evan Hanson after pulling some strings. She says since he has a prior commitment, she can sell the tickets; no big deal. Michael says the party will be packed, and he probably won’t get to see much of Jason, so he’ll hire a driver, and they’ll go to the city. Nelle kisses him.

Jordan sees Stella at the hospital. She says the message seemed urgent. Stella says a young woman came in with a burst appendix, has no health care, and is undocumented. She finished high school there, works two jobs, and has exhausted the avenues to become legal. Jordan says she advises her to stay under the radar. As long as there are no problems, she should be fine. Stella points out a guy who has been lurking, and waiting for her release. She hates to think of what would happen if the woman is picked up. Jordan says probably deportation within the hour. Stella says that’s why she called Jordan. Jordan says she’s sympathetic, but it’s a federal matter. Stella asks if she can’t help or won’t.

Jake tells Andre that the man looked like his dad; not like now, but before the car accident that changed his face. Andre says Jake was pretty young when that happened. Jake says he’s seen pictures, and maybe remembers a little. When he saw the man, he thought it was his dad. Elizabeth says she didn’t see him. Jake thought he heard his name, but she didn’t hear anything. Jason checked, but said no one was there. Andre asks if Jake spoke to him.

Patient 6 gets his guns in shape. The kind you shoot, not his biceps. He hears something.

Diane arrives at Sonny’s, and tells him that her hours are billable. He doesn’t care, as long as the job gets done. She asks what herculean legal feat he wants her to do now, and he asks if she can get the Feds to stop tapping the phones.

Curtis comes to Michael’s office. Michael asks what brings him by, and he says, Nelle.

At the MetroCourt, Carly wraps up the details for the party. She sees Nelle picking up some food, and says she’s looking forward to seeing her and Michael at the party. Nelle says they won’t be able to make it.

Jordan introduces herself to Agent Briggs. She tells him circumstances have made it necessary to speak to him directly, and asks if he has an order of removal for Clara Hernandez? He tells her that he can’t discuss it, and she says that her department has been targeting drug dealers who are distributing at the university. Clara goes to school there, and has been working under cover. If he removes her, the investigation, along with months of under cover work will blow up. He says it’s not his problem, but she says the drug crisis is everyone’s problem. The Feds are even watching them to see if they can duplicate the procedure. She asks him to get his boss on the phone.

Sonny explains to Diane that Brick discovered the phones were tapped. Not by physical bugs, but sophisticated software, probably devised by the Feds or NSA. He thinks that Jason is the target, and she says she’s not surprised. Cash changing hands between alleged mobsters causes scrutiny. She tells Sonny that Brick probably broke some laws finding the taps. Max calls, and Sonny asks which safe house, and when was the last time the security code was used?

Patient 6 keeps looking at the alarm.

Andre asks if the man reached out, but Jake says he was just standing there watching, and he smiled. Jake smiled back, but they didn’t speak. Andre asks if he heard the man’s voice, and Jake says he thought he heard someone say his name, and thinks it was him, but didn’t see him. Elizabeth asks Jake to go to the vending machine while she talks to Andre for a minute. She asks if she’s making too much of this, but Andre says they need to proceed carefully.

Carly tells Nelle if she’s worried about Bobbie, she doesn’t think she’s coming. Nelle says it’s not about that; they have plans. Carly asks if they can’t postpone them. Nelle says she suggested it, but Michael insisted they go.

Michael tells Curtis that he thought he was clear about dropping the investigation. Curtis says he did, but there were things in motion already. Michael paid for it, and he thinks he should know. Michael says unless there’s proof of her killing Zack, he’s not interested. He appreciates it, but it’s over.  paid for think he should no unless proof not interested thinks he is appreciates but over

Jordan tells Brigg’s boss that she appreciates the support of their highly sensitive operation, and knows she can count on their discretion. She gives phone back to Briggs. She tells him she’ll take the removal warrant, and trusts it will be canceled on his end. He gives it to her and leaves. She rips it up. Stella says, that’s it? Jordan tells her for now, but Carla needs to be careful. Stella says she wouldn’t have believed it if she hadn’t seen it herself, and Jordan tells her sometimes people surprise you.

Andre tells Elizabeth it could be a case of projection on a random stranger. Elizabeth wonders why out of the blue, and Andre says maybe Jake is more fixated than she realized. He doesn’t think she should worry, but it couldn’t hurt to make sure. He tells her to call him if it happens again. Maybe they can see a pattern. She leaves, and Andre gets on the phone to Klein.

Franco leaves his office. Ava is hiding, and slips in. She looks at the sketchbook.

Franco sees Jake and Elizabeth. He thought they were going shopping. Elizabeth sends Jake back to the vending machine. It’s amazing that this kid hasn’t caught on to that. She tells Franco she has to talk to him. She’s worried about Jake and Jason.

Klein shows up at Andre’s office. Andre says he’s taking a risk, but Klein says it’s urgent. He asks who’s getting close to truth, and Andre says someone who works there. Andre says there’s something even more urgent though. Patient 6 has been watching Jake, and could be making contact with someone soon.

Sonny goes to the safe house, and walks in. No one appears to be there. He squints.

Nelle tells Carly that Michael will probably see Jason later at their house to celebrate. She tells Carly good luck with the party.

Curtis is like, okay, I can’t do this, and goes back to Michael. He says Michael hired to find the truth, good or bad, and he needs to see it. He puts a folder on Michael’s desk, and says Nelle spent almost a full year in a mental institution.

Elizabeth tells Franco that Jake is interested in how Jason used to look.

Ava looks through the sketches. She takes one out, and hopes Franco won’t miss it. She rolls it up, and leaves.

Andre tells Klein that everything is unraveling. There have been unexpected threats, starting with Patient 6’s escape. Klein says they’re intercepting him tonight.

Sonny walks through the house, gun drawn. He says that whoever it is went through a lot of trouble to get him here; now show yourself. He hears his name, and turns to see Patient 6 on the stairs.

Tomorrow, Amy asks Nathan how Maxie is taking his retirement, Nelle wants the digging into her past to stop, and Sonny asks who the hell Patient 6 is.

If Loving You is Wrong

An EMT asks Randal how he feels. He says better, and asks where the police are. He tells them that Brad knocked him off the ladder. The EMT says nothing seems to be broken, and asks if he wants to try moving around. For someone who just fell a couple of stories, he seems fine. She asks if he wants to go to the hospital, but he says no.

Steve and Lushion arrive. Randal is like, damn! He says he called for the real police not some Keystone ass cops. He tells them nothing happened. Lushion says they are the real police, and tell them what happened. Randal says Brad knocked him off the ladder. Lushion asks what Randal did first, but Randal insists he did nothing. He was minding his own business. He claims he fell forty-five feet, and Lushion says he must have been on the roof. Lushion decides to talk to Brad. Steve asks if Randal is hurt, but Randal just wants to make out a police report. He says that bastard knocked him off the ladder. He wants Steve to write it down, but Steve says he doesn’t need to; he knows his job.

Lushion knocks on Brad’s door. Brad says he’s the one who should be calling the police. Lushion asks what’s going on. Brad says Randal is driving them nuts, and admits to knocking him off the ladder. Lushion says that’s assault, and Brad shows him the floodlight and the motions sensor camera. Lushion says they have to stop, but Brad says he’s not the one doing anything. Lushion tells Brad that he could take him in, and Brad says go ahead. Lushion says he’ll try to talk Randal out of pressing charges. Maybe they can make this simpler. He asks if Brad knocked Randal off the ladder, but Brad doesn’t get it, so he asks again. The light bulb comes on, and Brad says he fell. Brad asks if Lushion is taking him in, and Lushion asks why, since Randal fell.

Randal wants Brad arrested. Lushion can’t do that; Brad says he fell. Randal says he knows Brad snatched the ladder. Lushion asks if anyone saw it. Randal says his camera did, but Brad took it. Brad says he doesn’t know what Randal is talking about, and Lushion says he didn’t see anything in the house. Randal wants him taken in, but Lushion won’t do it. Randal says he doesn’t get why no one will help him, and Steve says they saved his life. Lushion suggests if he stops doing things to people, people will stop doing things to him. Randal tells them to go to hell. Lushion says they both need to knock it off before someone gets hurt. Randal says he did get hurt. He’ll have to take the law into his own hands. Lushion says that would be a bad idea, and Randal says we’ll see. Steve thinks this isn’t going to end well.

A naked Eddie walks by. Lushion says there are kids around; get in the house. Steve says that dude is crazy, and they get back in the car. There’s a report of shots fired somewhere, and they leave to check it out.

Brad asks what’s going on. Eddie tells him he was in the shower at Esperanza’s house, and Esperanza flipped out and shot at him. Brad asks why he was in her house, and he says his name is on the deed. He was in the shower, and she screamed at him to get out. He wasn’t having it, and it escalated. He looks around for some clothes he can wear, and asks why Brad’s bags are there. He asks if he’s thinking of moving back for this ho. Brad tells him not to call Alex that. He asks how Brad can stay there and raise Lushion’s baby. Brad says the baby isn’t Lushion’s. Eddie says Black babies are coming out of the woodwork. He asks to stay there, but Brad says he doesn’t want him disrupting Alex and the kids. He asks for Brad’s credit card, and surprisingly, Brad hands it over.

Eddie sees the camera and spotlight on the table, and thinks Brad is putting up surveillance to watch Alex. He says Brad is doing the right thing,, and asks for shoes. I love how all clothing fits everyone on TV. They aren’t exactly the same size. Alex walks in with the baby, and Eddie says welcome home. He starts to look in the carrier, and Alex smacks him, telling him not to go near her son. She says the next time he points a gun in her face, he’d better be prepared to pull the trigger. He says he always is. He leaves, saying, goodbye little beige baby. That Eddie. What a card.

Alex asks Brad why Eddie was there, and Brad says he needed clothes – long story. He says sorry, and Alex says she knows how much of an ass he can be. She asks if he has clothes there now. He says yes, and she’s happy about that. She asks about the camera, and he says he borrowed it from Randal. He explained about Randal putting it up, along with the light facing their bedroom, but says he handled it. He pushed Randal off the ladder. Alex laughs. She asks if Randal called the police. Brad says Lushion turned up and dealt with him. The camera is how he knew when they were coming and going. Alex says she’s so sorry. The nameless baby starts to cry. Brad asks what the doctor said, but Alex wants to change No-Name first. The crying doesn’t sound like it’s coming from that bundle in her arms, and I’m sorry, but could we please give that baby a name? He’s only been on for three seasons now.

On the phone, Kelly’s boss isn’t happy. She tells Natalie that she had to tell them. Her phone rings, but no one is there when she answers. Natalie tells her to change her phone number, but Kelly needs to wait until Justice’s school has all the information. Kelly’s phone rings again. Natalie grabs it, and says, call here one more time, you sick m – and it’s someone else. Kelly takes the phone. She listens, and thanks them. She tells Natalie that she can go home now. Natalie says she’ll go with her.

Marcie visits Larry’s office. He says divorce looks good on her. He’s working on getting the papers signed. Randal isn’t happy Larry is representing her. He says he’s working on a plan, but it will take time, a couple of months. She says she doesn’t have months. She makes sure he can’t repeat what she tells him, and says she’s pregnant. Now he knows why she’s in a rush. He asks what one has to do with the other, and she says Randal doesn’t know, even though he’s the father. She asks about sole custody and if they can include it. Larry says she’ll have to tell him then. She says Larry knows what an a-hole he can be, and Larry says he’s had run-ins with him too. He says once Randal finds out, he’ll demand a paternity test. Marcie says maybe she’ll just move, although she doesn’t really want to. Larry says he’ll call Randal and see where he’s at. He won’t mention the pregnancy, but will gage where Randal’s head is at. She tells him good luck, and leaves. Larry looks like he has a headache.

Lushion drives to where the shots have been fired. Lushion asks the dispatcher if she’s sure this is the address, and she says shots were fired, and a naked man ran out of the house. Lushion says it’s Esperanza’s house. He knocks, and Esperanza lets them in. Not wearing much. She tells them that she came home and Eddie was in the shower. Lushion asks why the gunshots, and she says she tried to kill the SOB. Lushion says she could get in trouble, but she doesn’t care; she’s trying to get him out of her life, but they’re not helping. Lushion notes that the bullet holes are in the wall, and she says she just wanted to scare him and get him out of the house. Lushion asks her not to shoot at him again. She wonders why he’s out of jail, but they can’t tell her. He says no more gunshots, and she says she gets it. Steve asks if she needs help with fixing the holes. Lushion says he’s going to lunch, and he’ll see Steve in an hour.

Natalie helps Kelly straighten up. Kelly says they destroyed so much stuff, she can’t believe it. It’s crazy how one bad choice can ruin her life. Natalie says it’s not ruined, but Kelly say she says she can lose her job. They’re very conservative, and it’s going to be in the paper. The bank isn’t going to want it affiliated with them. Natalie tells her it will be okay, and Kelly starts putting things back together. She picks up some photos, and says she’s not going to let him do this. She isn’t standing by and letting it happen. She doesn’t know what she’s going to do, but she’s not going to let him do this.

Steve patches the holes in the wall, and Esperanza says she’ll take it from there. She’s gets on the stepladder with the hairdryer to make it dry faster. Steve has his hand on her butt, and she’s not even noticing. He tells her to sand and paint it, and she’s good to go. He’s behind her with the paint, and when she gets off the ladder, she bumps into him. Paint is all over him. He says he has to get back to work. Esperanza says she can salvage it; take it off. He takes off his shirt, and I take note of the fact that all of these guys all have tats for days. She tells him take his pants off, and he says just the shirt. She asks if he’s shy, and messes with his belt buckle. He says sorry, and she says it’s unprofessional. I don’t have to explain what’s happening further, right? She says turn it off, and he says he’s trying. She tells him to get in the shower. She takes his clothes, and looks at his rockin’ bod as he showers.

Randal calls Larry. He wants to sue his neighbor. He says he knocked Randal off a ladder. Larry says he needs to meet first or he’s not doing it. Randal asks if he’s still representing Marcie, and he says he is. He asks why Larry wants to meet, and Larry says he’s Randal’s friend. It’s not personal; he’s just doing what’s best for two old friends. Randal says he’s the one who’s Larry’s friend. Larry says his family is out of town, and he’d like to meet. Randal doesn’t think so. Larry says he wants to get drunk and talk crap like they used to. Randal won’t come, and Larry says he’ll come to Randal’s house then. Randal should be happy he’s involved; he can help him settle this. Randal says there’s nothing to settle. Larry says Marcie doesn’t want anything, so why not sign. He tells Randal that he’ll be at Sam’s at seven. Randal has to go. Larry says he’ll be there.

Steve comes out, and Esperanza says his clothes are almost dry. He thanks her, and apologizes for this. She says it’s still going on, and he says he can’t help it. Oh, come on, just do it already. This is getting silly. He says he knew she was sexy, and she says she didn’t know he all this going on under his uniform. Um… he wears a suit to work. She asks if he works out, and he says a bit. She says that she could use some help in a few areas, and he says she looks great. She says she has clothes on, so he can’t really judge that – yeah, she’s wearing a camisole and some teeny, tiny shorts – and Steve says he’d like to see her out of them. He tells her that he knows she was turned on, and she says she’s just helping him out. He says he’s a cop, and knew she was watching, and liked what she saw. He kisses her. They climb on the kitchen counter and get busy. Wow.

Eddie busts in. Double wow.

Next time, Eddie fights Steve, Alex tells Brad the doctor switched the tests, and Randal asks if Ian is screwing his wife.

I don’t think this is on next week, which is Halloween, but it was unclear as to whether they were showing it again on November 1st or 7th. I’ll update when I’m positive.

Below Deck

Kate wants Jen to prep for breakfast before she goes to bed. She says this is the fifth charter, and if Jen doesn’t have it by now, she never will. At 3 am, Jen is searching for oranges. She doesn’t care what Kate thinks about her anymore.

Nico asks Bri if she wants to watch the sunrise. She does.

Everyone gets ready for the morning. Bri finds a note from Jen in the small refrigerator, saying she couldn’t find oranges. Bri finds them in three different places. Matt says Jen isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, which is an understatement.

Nico tells Baker it will be difficult to go back to the city. He has to chill with his family for a bit when the season is over. He thinks being away has been healthy for him. After his brother passed away, he tried to be the best everything, and he’s not sure if he’s ready to go back.

There’s a deckhand meeting, and Nico says they’re going straight into the dock. EJ thinks he needs to feel in control by running the meeting. He’s cool, as long as Nico is respectful. An amazing fruit tray is served, along with bagels and lox, and scrambled and poached eggs. Sigh… I love breakfast food.

Bri tells Kate that Jen forgot to squeeze oranges for juice. Kate says she can lead a horse to water, but can’t make them drink, and she can train Jen, but can’t make her think. Baker says EJ is more level headed than the others, and she’s warming up to him. EJ thinks everyone has graduated to the next level. Baker says from rookie to less rookie. The guests don’t want to leave, but pack anyway. The crew gets ready to say goodbye. Kate begs them to take her with them. They tell the crew it was flawless, except for the ice cream debacle.

Bri is annoyed that she did breakfast by herself. Kate feels badly for EJ. He’s like the nerd of the group, and Nico is icing him out.

Tip time! Captain Lee tells them that charter went well. He’s not so concerned about major things, but small things, saying the devil is in details. The ice cream hangs over Matt’s head like a black cloud. The tip is $21K; not bad for three days work. The captain says the owners decided to comp a day at a local resort for them. He tells them to have fun, but he doesn’t have money for bail, and tomorrow they flip the boat.

Melissa calls Nico. He’s really short with her, saying he’s working. He says she doesn’t get it, and she knows how it goes. Matt calls his ex Samantha, and tells her when he’s coming back. He asks if she wants to get together, and she says, nope. Ha-ha! He tells us rejection sucks, but he broke up with her, so it’s no surprise. He says if she changes her mind, let him know. I’d make a safe bet that she’s not going to.

Kate changes the sleeping arrangements to give EJ a bigger space. She thinks it could also breathe fresh life into what seems to be a toxic situation. Everybody gets ready, and they take a limo to the resort. I’m so jealous. It’s gorgeous, with hot tubs and natural pools and greenery and champagne. Kate is glad to be seeing trees instead of the ocean. Matt tells Bruno how great it was to collaborate in he galley. Nico says they have it more together now, so Matt can have him as a sous chef after four pm. Matt and Bruno fist bump.

Nico tells Bri that he’s comfortable being around he. EJ and Baker check out the gift shop. EJ feels the most friendly with her, and feels disconnected from the crew sometimes. She thinks he handled Nico screaming at him well. EJ thinks Nico still has lingering bad feelings, but still believes he has potential

Jen communicates with the chickens. Matt tells Nico his ex is stress. Nico thinks they should enjoy the day. In his interview, he says Matt is an emotional drinker. Really? I wouldn’t have noticed. They do some ziplining, and float around in the pool.

They get back to the yacht in one piece. Nico asks Bri to hang out. On deck, she messes with her tiny guitar, and they lie back and gaze at the stars. EJ and Baker talk. He says Nico and Bri are full-on now, and Baker calls them Brico. Nico and Bri start kissing, and she asks if he wants to go to sleep. In his interview, he says he knows it’s wrong, but he’s where he wants to be. EJ hopes it chills him out.

I watch everyone spring out of bed the next morning and think, this job is so not for me.

Bri says never been that girl. She’s not the bad guy. She’s single, and Nico is a big boy. He can make his own decisions. Baker asks EJ to go to dinner. In his interview, he thinks her asking him out is a turn on. He tells the guys that Baker asked him on a date. In his interview, Nico thinks EJ needs to get laid. Kate tells Bri and Jen that they’re making the beds, and the fastest stew will get two-hour breaks next charter. Jen asks if she’s going to be doing it, and Kate says when she can stop explaining Jen’s job to her, she’ll explain her own. In her interview, she thinks Bri could win blindfolded. Jen doesn’t respond to anything, so this is a punishment. Jen says you’re usually given a team building activity, but this is to each his own, thrown to the wolves, and good luck. In her interview, Bri says if you give Kate respect, she’s cool, but if you don’t, she can make your life a living hell.

Kate times them. She uses an f-word, and Jen gets bent out of shape and snotty. Bri wins and gets the two-hour breaks. In her interview, Kate understands it’s not easy when you don’t know what you’re doing.  Jen thinks she’s doing everything, and she’s wrong.

Nico and Matt go to the wine bar. Nico says it’s the three-month anniversary of his brother’s death, and his girlfriend is being insecure. Matt says relationships take work. Nico tells him it’s coming up on one year, and he has to decide. Does he commit or do what makes him happy in the moment? He says it’s not fair to his girlfriend, and it’s a difficult decision. Matt says it’s hard not to have life affect your work. Chef’s have a reputation of drinking, and he thinks it’s time to grow up. Nico says to take it day by day.

Jen weeps at the outside table, and Bruno asks her what’s wrong. She says it’s one thing to work your way up the ladder, and be in position of respect, but another to talk to staff like peons. She wails that she works hard, and she’s reached her threshold in this living nightmare. Bruno tells her to focus on work. She says she’s working the hardest, and Bri is being rewarded. Bruno says don’t show Kate her tears. She’s the winner. In two weeks, she’ll be going back to her daughter, and Kate has nobody. Bri sits down, and Bruno leaves. She asks how Jen is feeling, and Jen says frustrated. She’s no one’s bitch. Bri tells Jen that in all honesty, she’s carried more weight than Jen, and Jen doesn’t like hearing truth. Jen gets up, saying she doesn’t want to be attacked.

Bri asks to talk to Kate. She wonders if they can come together and make it work. Kate says Jen has her days and she gets moody. It’s all about respect, but for Jen it’s a one-way street. In her interview, Kate says Jen can do the work or not, but if she doesn’t want to do the work, she doesn’t want to work on this boat.

In her interview, Baker says she’s not actively hunting for a boyfriend, but if the right guy comes along, Lord have mercy. She leaves for dinner with EJ.

Nico finds out his older brother, Josh, is coming to visit.

In her interview, Baker calls EJ a stud muffin, saying he’s intelligent and good-looking. She tells him that she’s homies with everyone, but he’s her ally. Back on the boat, Nico and Bri get busy. Jen calls her daughter, who’s bummed because there’s a test tomorrow. In his interview, EJ says that at the end of a date, there’s always a weird grey zone. Does he hug her, kiss her, or tuck her into bed? He tells us a true gentleman knows how to court a lady, and when to make right move. We don’t see what move he makes, if any. The next morning, Bruno wants details, but EJ says there was no kissing.

Captain Lee holds the preference sheet meeting. The next primary guests are Robbie, the CEO of Metro Tickets, and his fiancé, Sara. They’re celebrating their engagement, along with some friends. The captain says there’s nothing crazy, and reminds Matt to make sure he has vanilla ice cream. In her interview, Kate says she’s seen it all, and she can tell these aren’t her kind of people. They want a dinner to celebrate the engagement, usage of the water toys, and a PJ party with popcorn. Zzzzzzz…

Bri says Jen is acting like nothing happened, but she feels the tension. Nico tells his girlfriend that he can’t do this; he’s met someone who’s giving him what he needs. She’s blindsided, but tells him she’ll give him his space. Nico tells Matt it sucks, but he’s making himself happy for one. I think it’s pretty much a guarantee this won’t end well.

The guests arrive, champagne is poured, Kate gives the tour. Sara is ready to “crank it up a notch.” She’s already annoying. In her interview, Kate has nothing against older gentlemen dating younger ladies, but thinks he should pick a quieter one. Sara keeps squealing about partying, and yaps about her luggage not being in the room yet. If she says “swimsuit” one more time, I think they should throw her overboard. And they’re still at the dock. Kate tells us the deck team is still a disaster. Nico wonders where the miracle bosun is. Kate tells Matt it might be too soon to tell, but she hates them. She’s getting a bad vibe, and thinks it’s going to be a long 48-hours. We hear Sara screech that she hates something.

Next time, Robbie wants to explain how to make a margarita, Kate says the guests are like a bunch of drunken third graders, the captain says it’s a clusterf*ck, Nico’s brother visits, and EJ says they’re both d*cks.

October 22, 2017 – A Shah Reunion, a Dead Return, Random TV Thoughts & Creepy Costumes

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Shahs of Sunset – Reunion Part One

As usual, the venue is gorgeous, an old Hollywood theater, and there’s an incredible spread of food. Andy asks the Shahs who would play each of them in a movie, and everyone is totally unrealistic, except for Shervin, who says Kahl Drago from Game of Thrones (Jason Momoa). He doesn’t have the body, but damn if he doesn’t look like him. Reza has lost his mustache and forty-three pounds. We see before and after pictures. Andy asks who has had work done, and MJ finds that offensive. Asa says people are open about what they want to be open about, and insists MJ’s lips are not her own. GG and Mike start arguing, and Andy moves on.

He asks how Asa is enjoying motherhood, and she says it’s magical and difficult. We don’t get any photos though, because Jermaine wants to be private about that. She’s hoping to Instagram some in the future. There haven’t been any playdates yet, but Janet Jackson and Asa’s babies are only two weeks apart, so she expects it will happen. She says her relationship being bi-racial caused extra conversation. Mike says Asa turned his inquiry about getting married into something else. MJ wonders why Asa can’t just answer questions honestly. Mike says she went on a social media rant about racism, and isn’t the righteous person she claims to be. He thinks she’s hyper-sensitive, but she says she’s just more aware. Mike didn’t mean to offend anyone, he just wanted her to share. Asa claims he has casual racism. Whatever that is.

The Shahs were the first show to travel to Israel, making Bravo history. Woohoo. Andy asks GG about Reza saying eff Iran, and why it upset her. She says her family is from there. Reza says it’s a terrorist country, and until there’s another gay Persian on the stage, no one else can contradict his opinion. Shervin make noises about the people of Iran, and Reza says he didn’t mean the kindergarteners, he meant the government, and should have said Islamic Republic. Andy talks about them causing a commotion that wasn’t aired, and we see a clip of them getting kicked out of a restaurant. Reza explains that the owner wanted more money, and when a producer said, “no problem,” he heard “no” and “problem,” and misunderstood. They talk about the city where Asa thought the Muslims and Jews were intermingling well, and Reza says it was more like a Muslim ghetto. Mike says they seemed aggressive to the people there, getting in their faces with cameras. Asa thinks they had a certain vibe that they were giving off.

They talk about the Western Wall. Mike says the feeling was remarkable. Reza says he literally felt something embrace him, and felt an energy from the Wall. GG starts to say something, and Mike says to be careful, since he stuck up for her. She felt the Wall was a barrier, and talks about someone saying “jihad” to her. Mike says there are idiots everywhere, but he knew what she meant and had her back.

Next up is MJ. Vida and Tommy join the group. Andy wonders what MJ was smoking to live in her mother’s apartment complex. MJ says it’s the winter of her father’s life, and she wanted to be close by. She tells us he’s doing much better, but she’d expected to be on a totally different life plan. We flash back to MJ and Tommy arguing about having kids. MJ says she was in a panic at the time, but when she saw the show, she knew how much Tommy loved and supported her. Tommy says it was a tough year for her, and he didn’t want to throw his reluctance to have kids at her too, but now the time is right. Vida again says she’s not ready to be a grandmother. She says the parents have to be ready for responsibility. MJ is annoyed that her mother is still discouraging her, and Reza suggests she’s projecting. Andy asks if Vida was ready when she had MJ, and after a pause, Vida says she didn’t plan it. Reza says she should end with icing on it, like saying she was happy once she had MJ. She does say she’s started to like Tommy, and everyone’s mouths drop open. GG says hell has officially frozen over. Vida says she’ll marry Tommy if MJ doesn’t, and I wonder what on earth happened. Andy asks when the wedding is, and Tommy says whenever MJ is ready. Andy offers to officiate.

He asks who has changed the most for the better, and Vida thinks it’s Mike; he’s more mature and relaxed. He asks what about the worst, and she calls Asa ungrateful. She owes everything she has to the show, but doesn’t even watch it. If she doesn’t like an opinion, she gets negative, because she’s only interested in promoting herself. How did Vida become so insightful? Is MJ slipping Vida weed edibles or something?

Destiney was on People’s Couch! Omg, I hadn’t realized that. I loved that show, and now that they mention it, I wonder why I didn’t recognize her or even her voice. We see a clip. A viewer says there’s undeniable sexual tension between Mike and Destiney. Really? I don’t think so. Destiney says they’re both hot-headed individuals, and it wouldn’t be healthy for anyone. She talks about what she wants in a man, and someone suggests Shervin, but she says there are no penises on that stage for her.

Nice segue to Shervin and Annalise’s relationship. Shervin tells them it’s an open relationship, which is news to everyone, but he says she didn’t want it shared. Andy asks if anyone believes it, and they all say no. Destiney says she was Shervin’s number one fan, until she hit a nerve asking him about cheating, and he came at her. We flash back, and Andy calls it a half-assed confession. Shervin gets Annalise on FaceTime. MJ leaves the stage. Andy asks Annalise if they have an open relationship. She tells him that she thinks it’s foolish to expect monogamy when she’s on the other side of the world. She’s not dating anyone else, but could if she wanted to. Annalise says you can’t cheat on someone if it’s not exclusive. We say g’day, and she’s gone. MJ thinks it was rehearsed. I think it’s one-sided openness, and she’s letting him cheat on her.

Andy tells us another bone of contention was MJ using the word bastard, but MJ insists there was no venom behind it. Asa says she expected more from Reza, but he says he can’t control what someone else says or how they feel. We flash back to Asa telling MJ it’s an ugly word, and MJ saying she was referring to herself. Reza deflects, saying Asa has claimed she’d had no hormonal treatments, then revealed she had frozen embryos. She’d confided in him about it previously, and he says he never told anyone, so he was shocked. Asa gets it, but says he’s smart, and she can’t believe he was thrown off by what she said. Reza says she answered so casually about the embryos, he was floored. He wondered what else was going to come out. He tells her that’s why they’re where they are in their relationship.

Andy asks why it wasn’t shared earlier. Reza says Asa asked him not to say anything, but he wished she and MJ would have had an honest conversation. Asa says their relationship wasn’t like that, but MJ says at the time, they had exchanges on a regular basis. Andy asks if Asa can’t see how it would raise questions. He asks if she went through IVF, and she says not with her son, but for the embryos, like an insurance policy. She felt hurt, because she had discussed it with Reza before. Andy asks if Asa understands how she put Reza in an awkward position. He asks if the group believes her, but only Mike does. The camera goes to Reza…

To be continued.

Next time, Mike and Jessica are discussed, Shalom joins the group, Reza’s faithfulness is questioned, and more Asa and MJ angst.

The Walking Dead – Episode 100

I hate when they start off all weird. We see a shot of flowers, a cane, Rick, and an alarm clock. Rick is standing over a grave.

Everyone is getting ready for battle. Rick gives a mini-speech, telling them Jesus said his world would get bigger, and it did. They found each other. The world is theirs, and they’ve come together, for it it’s theirs by right. At the Sanctuary, Dwight gets a note via arrowgram that says, tomorrow. Rick says anyone with common ground, it’s theirs too, but those who want it to be theirs alone, they end them. They don’t celebrate it or have shame. Only one person has to die and he’ll kill them himself. Dwight sends an arrow note back to Daryl. Rick says they’ll keep making the world bigger together. Ezekiel says together bound forever. He who sheds his blood today will be his brother. Shiva growls. Maggie says they may have to live in uncertainty, but have to keep faith in each other. If they can hold onto that, the future and world are theirs.

Tara and Carol sit on a bridge, where a billion zombies are passing underneath.

Rick does what he does best, ponders.

A bearded Rick opens his eyes. He hears music.

Carl goes on a gas run. He finds a bunch of cars near a gas station that have been halfway stripped, some with rotting corpses in them. Someone says, hi, and we all crap our pants. He draws his gun. The guy says he’s been shot at and had a microwave at him, but his mom said helping a traveler is everything. He gets not trusting people. Carl looks around as the man talks. He says he understands Carl doesn’t know him, but he hasn’t eaten in a few days and Carl might not even be real. He reveals himself. Carl draws his gun, but the guy raises his hands, and says, it’s cool. Someone else starts shooting at him, and the guy jets. Rick appears, telling Carl that they were supposed to meet at the intersection. Carl isn’t happy with Rick shooting at a defenseless person, and Rick says he just shot over his head; he wanted him to be gone. Carl says he’s not a spy, not one of them. Rick hopes he makes it. Carl says there isn’t going to be enough. Rick asks enough what, and Carl says, hope. Carl walks off, and Rick gazes at a slow-moving zombie.

A Savior in a lookout tower is shot, and falls to the ground, where a zombie is overjoyed that a picnic lunch just dropped from heaven. Daryl scratches a lookout off of his list, and picks off another guy. He makes strike marks on his gun, along with updating the list. Morgan impales one of the lookouts, which surprises me. Father Gabriel tells Rick that everyone is ready; is he? Rick says one person brought it to this. Gabriel says it always starts with one person, adding this did, meaning their group at Alexandria. Rick says it’s not about him.

Rick says goodbye to Judith, who is in college now. Not really; she’s a toddler. He kisses Michonne, and hugs Carl. He says this is the end, and drives away in a caravan of cars and trucks, shielded with corrugated iron panels. Carl tells Michonne he knows she wanted to go; he did too. She says it hurts, but they have to defend this place.

A guy teases a zombie chained to a tree. Rick knocks him out, and he goes through the guy’s stuff. Dude says Rick’s boy is gonna die. Rick lets the zombie go, and I say, ah-ha! in a Nelson voice.

Everyone gathers in a big field like it’s a soccer match. They all chit chat. Shiva gets off her tour bus a school bus. Maggie says she needs to be there for the first part. Rick is concerned about her pregnancy, but she says she can wage war through the second trimester. She has one more fight, and she’s gonna be there. Ezekiel says Hilltop lost their doctor, but there’s one at The Kingdom. He says they can join him, but Jesus says they’ll get theirs back. Ezekiel says on this day, they reshape the world for the children to come. Rick says Hilltop is lucky to have Maggie, and she says he made her someone worth following. He tells her next time, he’ll be following her.

Daryl, Tara, Gabriel and Carol wait at the bridge. Tara counts down, but nothing happens. Here comes the zombie horde, and Tara says she was close. The group walks off, leaving a car behind that blows up.

Negan’s people come out. This is like a Sharks and Jets rumble. Regina says she wants blood, and Dwight says maybe she’ll get lucky.

Daryl and company string a wire across the road.

The guards on the roof of the Sanctuary are picked off by Rick’s people. The caravan drives in past the line of chained up zombies. I feel sorry for them. They must get really bored. Rick’s people draw their guns. They shoot in the air. This is a rumble.

Negan comes out and says, well, sh*t. Sorry, he was in a meeting. I hope they don’t kill him. He’s one of the few senses of humor this show has going for it. And Eugene.

We see Rick with teary eyes, some flowers, and older-looking Rick with a beard. Why? Why do they do this? I hate this cryptic stuff. Bearded Rick get up. Everything is cool, and he’s with Michonne in a beautiful house.

Negan isn’t exactly feeling he has a reason to shoot, He cares about his people. he doesn’t want to play whose d*ck is bigger. His is, and they know it, but if it wasn’t, he could accept it. He’s not going to let people die over it, like Rick is about to. He asks what the hell he can do for him. Rick calls out the Hilltoppers and Eugene. He says they have chance to survive. They can live if they surrender. He can’t guarantee that at any time but right now.

Morgan goes down to the road.

Negan asks, what about me? Rick says he told Negan twice. Negan tells Rick that he has no idea the sh*t that’s about to go down. Does he think he has the numbers for this fight? He doesn’t. Simon brings out Gregory, who says Hilltop stands with Negan and the Saviors. Any Hilltoppers who support Rick are no longer welcome in the colony. Negan says, and… Gregory tell them that they’re families will be thrown out and left to fend for themselves. Go home now, or there will be no home to go back to. Maggie tells Jesus to do what he needs to do, and he says all he has are a bunch of books and old lobster bib. Negan tells them to go back to separating wheat or whatever they do. Maggie says doesn’t look like anyone is going. Jesus says Hilltop stands with Maggie.

Morgan pikes a zombie. He sees a car coming.

Simon says (tee-hee) he’s invested a lot in Gregory, and he’s disappointed. He pushes Gregory down the stairs.

Cars come. Morgan waits. Sh*t blows up.

Negan says it sound like sh*t (the word of the night) is going down. Negan looks pretty pissed, and Rick asks if he’s going to make him count. Negan smiles. Rick counts down from ten, but when he gets to seven, starts to shoot

Lots of shooting back and forth. Negan and company go inside. Rick’s people shoot out the windows.

Morgan joins Carol, Tara, and Daryl. Carol says it’s starting, and the zombies arrive. Daryl waits while the others go ahead. He rides forward of the horde, and shoots, creating an explosion.

Rick and company shoot up everything. Daryl continues to blow stuff up. The zombie horde keeps walking. A stray zombie wanders by when Daryl sets off one of his explosions. Cool. A truck drives into the Sanctuary gate and explodes. Negan limps out. Rick is relentless with his machine gun. Gabriel says they have to leave now. Rick messes around with a Polaroid camera. I don’t know if now is the time to take candid snaps.

An entrance for the zombie horde has been opened up by the truck. Gabriel is about to leave in one of the cars, and sees Gregory. Leave him, you idiot. He doesn’t listen to me, and dashes over to Gregory. They’re being shot at, but Gabriel tells him to wait for their moment. Gregory doesn’t wait. He runs to Gabriel’s car, and drives off, because he’s a selfish a-hole.

Carl goes back to the gas station. He leaves cans of food with a note that says, sorry. The new guy watches.

Rick’s group regroups. Ezekiel smiles.

Daryl tells Rick they can wait until tomorrow. Rick says they can’t. Gabriel stopped to get him when Negan almost killed him. It isn’t about him.

Morgan asks if one of the Hilltoppers can hit the guard with an arrow. She says she wouldn’t bet on it, but I would, because she does. They open a gate. Is this the back way? Someone lobs a grenade at them, and there’s a lot of smoke.

Tons of zombies are walking into the Sanctuary. Gabriel jets through them, and goes inside a trailer. Negan says he hopes Gabriel has his sh*ttin’ pants on, because he’s about to sh*t his pants. Negan laughs. Gabriel gulps. Tons of zombies scratch and scrabble at the trailer. We see a crane shot of all the zombies descending on the Sanctuary.

Judith runs to bearded Rick, babbling about an owl. Michonne tells him the festival is being taken very seriously. Judith wants to see the owl, and they go outside. It’s all beautiful and green.

Teary-eyed Rick talks to his people. He says mercy prevails over his land. He doesn’t want to wait for it anymore. They don’t either. They don’t have to start tomorrow. Right now, with everything they’ve borne and endured, everything they’ve risen above, if they start right now, no matter what comes next, they’ve won. They’ve already won.

😪 The episode was dedicated to John Bernecker and George Romero. John was a stuntman who worked on Walking Dead’s eighth season who died from a head injury he sustained in a fall. George, who also passed away this year, is the man who started it all with Night of the Living Dead, the first zombie allegory. My personal favorite is Dawn of the Dead, the perfect statement on consumerism. I also recommend Martin, a gem of a vampire film, but it’s hard to find. I had the pleasure of meeting George at a screening at the Waverly Theater in Greenwich Village, home of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show.

🎭 Glad to hear UnReal will be returning February 26, 2018. I’m not sure they’ll be able to top the real Bachelor in Paradise debacle that recently happened though.

💍 I’m still following the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and taking notes. It’s been a helluva busy month, and then someone threw Halloween in there. Hey, we do a whole theme with the dogs here. All right, I do a whole theme. I’ve also been watching My Giant Life, which follows some very tall girls. Like the shows with little people, the struggle is real to live in an average height world.

🏡 Channel Zero: No End House continues to intrigue, although I’ve had to watch it On Demand due to TV scheduling conflicts. It’s very weird, and I’m not so sure I know what’s going on all the time, but it’s not as weird as last season, where I really had no idea what was going on with that monster made of teeth. This season brought us a house that the characters are exploring – it just appeared out of nowhere – where each room holds a different terror. The last couple of episodes brought them to a room that opened to a parallel town. At first, they thought they’d found a way out, but then realized they were stuck with no way out. The dead were alive again, a doppelganger insisted he was a better version of his double, and no one knew who was real. Offbeat and odd, but I like it.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Maxie barges into Sam and Jason’s place. She yammers about them being media moguls now, and asks if there’s anything else she should know about. Sam says she had no idea Jason was buying the company until she was signing the paperwork. Maxie is like, wow. She never thought Jason would willingly enter a corporate boardroom. Sam says it’s exciting; it will be a challenge and a new life for her family. Maxie says Sam has to make the launch monumental, so she brought Sam a dress. But there’s a catch. She needs Sam to do her a favor.

Nathan hunts Amy down at the hospital. She has great news. The rest of the advance came in, so Chet’s expenses are covered. Nathan thinks that’s great, and it’s time to kill Ask Man Landers.

Griff tells Ava that he fought it a long time, but couldn’t deny the truth that the priesthood isn’t for him. She wonders what it means for them. Where do they go from here?

Ned and Olivia-Q go to ELQ. She was hoping when she woke up, that they were still on their honeymoon, but he says time to return to the real world. She has to pick up Leo’s medicine, and he tells her by the time she comes back, everything should be settled.

On the phone, Michael says he doesn’t like it. The proposal is too high risk. Ned knocks on the door, and asks if everything is good. Michael says it’s fine, except his phone is giving him problems. Ned talks about the honeymoon, and a villa in Tuscany. It gave him a chance to do some thinking about his role at ELQ.

Dr. Kline is annoyed with his men. He thought they were professionals, and Patient 6 walked away with their guns and money. Thug #1 says they were caught off guard. Kline says he told him Patient 6 was fast; did they think he was making it up? Thug #2 says they’ll get him next time, but Kline says Patient 6 knows the city better than them, and if he hooks up with Sonny, it’s going to be a whole other game.

Sonny tells Jason the only reason he’s bringing him along is because it’s personal to him and their history. Jason says that’s why he’s going.

Patient 6 waits on the footbridge, and says, come on, Sonny, like he’s a racehorse.

On the phone, Monica asks someone for figures for the board meeting, but she’s having problems hearing them. Olivia runs up and hugs her, and Monica tells her welcome back. Monica says she walked out the door and walked into this, handing Olivia a piece of fake spiderweb. Yeah, I know all about those. I used them once and it took me a year to get them out of the bushes. Olivia says she decorated for Halloween. Monica noticed everything all over the place. She thinks Halloween is fine, but a jack-o’-lantern or two is enough; her living room looks like the great pumpkin exploded there, and Olivia never even consulted her. Olivia says she was doing something nice for Leo and the grandkids. Monica tells her it’s way past time they discussed boundaries.

Ned thinks Michael should cut back on green initiatives. They’ll keep what’s performing well, but they’ve been neglecting other opportunities that could be lucrative. As the VP of new business, he should have an opinion, unless Michael has changed his mind

Griff tells Ava that he doesn’t know, and knows I don’t know isn’t good enough. Ha-ha! The only real commitment he’s ever made is with the priesthood. Ava says it’s probably wise not to jump into a relationship; no hard feelings. He says walking away would be the easy choice, but wants to kiss her. For the love of all that’s holy, there can be a middle ground. How about dating?

Thug #2 says Patient 6 has had no contact with anyone.  Kline hopes he’s right. Patient 6 is dangerous, and they have to stop him.

Patient 6 sees a car coming, and hides. He sees Sonny, and almost reveals himself, but Jason walks onto the bridge behind him.

Griff feels a strong connection to Ava, and she says she feels it too. He tells her that he just failed at the biggest commitment of his life, and walked away from what he thought was his calling. She tells him that she never said anything about a commitment. She’s not asking for promises. He made her feel wanted when she thought she never would again. He says she accused him of mixed signals. She admits she did, saying it made her mad. Friendship aside, maybe they’ve been using each other to feel alive, and shouldn’t expect anything more. She tells him if he wants to kiss her though, don’t stop on her account. He does. Kiss her, not stop.

Michael hasn’t changed his mind. Ned says grandfather groomed him to run the company. Michael has thought about diversification, and Ned says some cuts need to be made. Some of his green projects are bleeding cash. Michael says he’d hate to cut them short before they turn a profit. Ned wants to go over projects, but Michael has a board meeting at GH.

Monica is delighted that Olivia feels comfortable, but since she moved in, she’s fired Cook, planted a vegetable garden on the croquet court, and put brick oven on the terrace. Olivia says she’s trying to make it less stuffy, and is bringing in life so wrong? Monica says Olivia is a guest in her house. Olivia says she’s Ned’s wife; it’s supposed to be her home. Monica understands that Olivia was the matriarch of her family, but at the end of the day, it’s Monica’s house. Olivia says only because Alan gave it to her. She stomps off, and Monica says, the more things change…

Amy tells Nathan that Ask Man Landers is a breakout hit; why shut it down? He says it’s one thing to be ribbed by his fellow cops, but it’s hard on Maxie, and he’s not willing to put his marriage on the line. Amy said they raised enough money. She says if he doesn’t want to do any more public appearances, she can talk to Quinn, but he says his face and image will still be associated with it. They’ve accomplished what they wanted. It’s time to shut the blog down for good.

Sam tries on the dress. Maxie says it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but Derek Wells Media is the parent company of Crimson. She asks if Jason could order Nina to rehire her. Sam explains it’s autonomous from Derek Wells Media, but Maxie says they sign off on budget. No surprise, the dress looks fabulous on Sam, electric blue with black mesh accents. Maxie tells her it’s time to join the couture  crowd, and retire her motorcycle jacket.

Jason tells Sonny that whoever sent the note must have reconsidered. Sonny thinks that could still show up. Sonny’s guard, Troy, discovers Patient 6, and holds a gun on him.

Griff tells Ava that they should stop and not go any further while they’re sorting it out. Ava says he’s right, but they go back to kissing. Then they start taking off their clothes. I guess we all have different ideas of what stopping is.

Olivia asks, how did it go, and Ned says, it went. He knew if he came back, Michael would be his boss, but didn’t know the corporate hierarchy was so entrenched. Michael has grandiose eco-projects that should be cut back, but as CEO, Michael gets the final say. Ned tells her it’s an adjustment, learning how to take orders from his 20-something cousin. He’ll have to make peace with Michael calling the shots. Olivia asks why the hell he’d do that.

Michael asks Monica if he can escort her to the meeting. He admits to missing Tracy, and Monica says she had an inexplicable way about her. They talk about Jason buying the media company, and Michael says he didn’t see that coming. Monica says all she’s ever wanted is for him to be safe and happy, and he’s finally found something stable – even if it’s competition for Michael. The secretary of the board calls Monica, saying the meeting is canceled. She complains about her phone to Michael, and says she’s been getting static all week. Michael makes a puzzled face.

Kline says his client wants updates. He hopes this is the worst they have to deal with. Thug #1 says at least now they have a better idea of what to expect. Kline tells them if Patient 6 reaches Sonny, his client won’t be happy. He’s paying for a service and wants results.

Troy tells Patient 6 to put his hands behind his head. Instead, he grabs Troy’s gun, and the struggle. The gun goes off. Sonny and Jason hear it. Patient 6 holds the gun on Troy.

Sam tells Maxie that she’s not ready to hang up her jacket; it’s symbolic, and reminds her of he old life with Jason. The represents the new one. She says when dust settles, she’ll ask Jason to talk to Nina. Maxie wonders why Sam can’t talk to her, and Sam says Jason is the CEO. Maxie says she never thought she’d hear Sam say that. Sam tells her things change. Maxie says she never thought she’d be stuck being Man Landers’s wife, with women showing up at all hours, and sending obnoxious tweets. She reads some of the tweets to Sam. Sam gets it, saying Maxie is the one used to being in the spotlight. Maxie says she’s going to find a way to embrace it and make it work. She calls Sam a genius.

Amy realizes that as long as Man Landers keeps blogging and writing books, Nathan’s reputation will be on the line, and he’s already done so much for her. Nathan thanks her for understanding, saying some things aren’t meant to last. He tells her to keep writing, but she says it’s really just a hobby; she’s a nurse. He thinks she can be both. It’s her words people are responding to, not his picture. Amy says they made a good team. She’ll call Quinn first thing in the morning and tell her that Ask Man Landers is no more.

Ned says he thought Olivia loved Michael. She does; she’s just projecting. Ned asks projecting what, and she tells him about her run-in with Monica, and that things got scratchy before she left. Monica called her a guest, and it’s frustrating that Alan’s branch of the family gets all the deference. Ned says she’s sounding like his mother, and she says she thought she was channeling Tracy during the argument. Ned says she didn’t remind Monica that Alan – and Olivia says she did. Ned says they could move, but Olivia says the spirit of the home is the Quartermaines, and he’s just as much of one as anyone else in the family. He asks what she’s suggesting, and she says to take back what’s his.

Michael says he’ll take Monica’s phone to the IT guy at ELQ; it’s one of the perks of being the CEO. He looks at the phone with a worried expression.

Patient 6 suggests Troy just pretend he was a guy who was lost. Jason wants Sonny to leave; he’s the target. He tells Sonny to go back to the car, and let him do his job. He walks over to Troy, and asks what happened. Troy says a guy jumped him, but then let him go. He doesn’t understand it.

Maxie tells Sam that she’s going to embrace being Mrs. Ask Man Landers until she gets what she wants. She wishes Sam luck.

Thug #1 says since Patient 6 knows the town better, he might have resources they know nothing about. They need to switch tactics.

Ava and Griff once again bask in the afterglow. Ava tell him to relax, and Griff says it was different than last time. Ava suggests that’s because there was no fear of being turned into a pillar of salt. He says it was a first for him, not violating his vows. She asks how he feels about that, and if it’s still the same if it’s not forbidden. He says it’s better. Ava says it’s getting late, and Griff asks if she’s kicking him out. She says staying over would imply a commitment, and they agreed they’re not doing that. They both just stare straight ahead, and it looks like a scene out of The Graduate.

Nathan sees Maxie at the hospital. She asks why the smile, and he says he may or may not have news. She says she has something she’ll enjoy not telling him either. They leave for dinner as Amy watches.

Griff tells Ava that he’s getting up early to figure out the logistics of his new life. Whether she meant to or not, she made him figure out what he’s been denying for too long. Ava says all she did was call him on his BS, but he says it’s what he needed. He needed to take responsibility for his own decisions. He says he’ll call her, and Ava says, or not. They’re keeping it casual, remember? In the hallway, he leans on the door and ponders. Inside, Ava smiles.

Olivia tells Ned that they need to assert themselves. They’re not going anywhere, and the home is shared. She says it’s the same with Michael and ELQ, but Ned says he’s not in the mood for a corporate coup. Olivia says she’d never wish Michael harm, but he’s young, and might have gotten in over his head. Ned was the last CEO, and has the experience of having observed all the others. Ned says in other words, Michael might have the corner office and title, but he could be the one with the real power.

Sonny tells Jason that whoever was waiting for him, disarmed Troy – why? Maybe killing isn’t the goal, but he can’t figure out what the guy wants. Michael walks in. He tells them about his and Monica’s phones having problems with static, and he brought them to ELQ’s IT guy. There was spy software on them. Sonny asks him to give the phones to Brick, so he can take a look. He tells Michael that someone is targeting him. They want access, but why Monica? Jason says Sonny isn’t the target – he is.

Patient 6 goes back to the footbridge. He remembers seeing Sam and Jason in the apartment, and Ava showing him the press release. He thinks about seeing Jason and Sonny on the footbridge, and ponders. He heaves a sigh. I have never seen a soap character sigh this much.

Kline thinks it will work. He tells the thugs to try and intercept Patient 6 before he makes contact. They need to get ahead of him. They’re going to take someone he cares about, and wait for him to show up.

At the apartment, Sam looks at her jacket. Outside in the hallway, Thug #1 puts on his gloves. Sam puts her jacket on.

On Monday, Griff talks to Anna, Sam has an announcement, and Franco talks to Andre.

Once Upon a Time

Back in the fairytale day, Cinderella looks for Henry in the forest. A man says come with him now, and calls her a murderer. She says she did nothing, and he says that’s what a murderer would say. She fights him, but another one grabs her from behind. She’s saved by another princess who introduces herself as Tiana.

In Seattle, Lucinda misses Lucy. Her friend, Sabine, who looks suspiciously like Tiana, says she’ll get Lucy back. Lucinda wonders if she’s cursed.

Roni lets Henry into the bar for an early meeting. Rogers tells him that Roni is ornery today. She tells them last night she had a customer who works for the building commissioner. He got drunk, and spilled everything, saying he was going to make a lot of money off of Victoria Belfry. Rogers says apparently bribes are happening. Henry says it’s a bad thing, but would make a great story. He has the true mind of a writer. Rogers is going to stake the building commissioner out. Henry asks to tag along, but Rogers tells him to stay behind and do research. Roni says, baby steps.

Lucinda goes to the wishing well with letters to Lucy.

In the enchanted forest, Tiana explains she’s the leader of a resistance group that’s going to overthrow Cinderella’s stepmother and the royal family. Cinderella asks where she was before, and Tiana tells her they’re doing their best and they’ll win. She says Cinderella is good with a sword, and would be an asset. She tells Cinderella that Lady Tremaine planned her father’s murder. She took Cinderella’s home, and now is going to take entire kingdom. Cinderella’s father died standing up to her; don’t let it be in vain. Cinderella tells her get on the motorcycle. She tosses out one of her shoes, telling Tiana it’s for a friend, so he knows where to find her.

In the real world, Victoria approaches Lucinda at the well. She knows about the letters, and Lucy isn’t going to get anything from the well. The demolition for her condos is beginning today. Lucinda says the garden means world to Lucy. Victoria suggests she vacate. Lucinda says she’ll stop her, and Victoria tells the guys to start digging.

Rogers copies some stuff. Weaver tries to give him evidence to catalog, but Rogers says he has to leave for a court date. Instead, he waits on a bench, and watches as Victoria passes something to a dude on the street. Weaver watches too.

Lucinda tells Roni the community garden is in trouble; they’re ripping it up right now. They can’t let this happen. Roni says there was a payoff to the building commissioner. She says if people are paying for permits, they’ll beat Victoria at her own game. She pulls out a humongous book of building codes. She reads something about how a demolition can be stopped if a petition is presented saying it’s for the good of the community.

In ye olde woods, Cinderella hangs up her gown. Cobbler Jeremiah presents her with some boots. She tells Tiana she has shoes and an army, not what? Tiana tells her about Lady Tremaine transporting magic in. She shows Cinderella a picture of a box, saying it’s the only thing  they haven’t identified. By now, Lady Tremaine has learned there’s a resistance, and she’s going to want to fight it. Henry joins them, saying maybe they can help. He tells Cinderella that he has her shoe, and introduces Regina and Hook. Tiana asks if Regina has magic, and Regina says she knows her way around spell. Cinderella thinks maybe they have chance.

In the here and now, Lucy finds Henry at Roni’s. She shows him the petition, and says she knew he’d be back for her mom. He tells her that he’s only helping to keep her grandmother from destroying the garden. He wonders why she’s not more upset, and Lucy says her mother is starting to wake up; it’s happening. She says this isn’t about the condos, but what’s below the surface. Henry asks if she thinks something is buried there, and she says there’s one way to find out.

Lucy thinks something magical is under the garden that her grandmother wants, and she wants to get her hands on it before they do. The workmen hit something, and Lucy says, told you. She runs over to the hole, and jumps in. Henry jumps after her.

While the building commissioner is having a restaurant meal, Rogers sits down across from him. He has some questions about Victoria Belfry, but the commissioner says he doesn’t know anything. Rogers reaches into the commissioner’s pocket, and pulls out an envelope of cash, saying this would suggest otherwise. The commission tells him that he doesn’t want to do this, and suggests he keep half. Rogers arrests him.

Lucy and Henry walk through some tunnels. Henry is concerned about it collapsing. He says it seems magical, but it’s not. They just built part of the city over the old city. Lucy asks why it’s hard to believe. She asks him what happened at the cemetery, and he tells her that his parents weren’t there, neither was the cemetery. Lucy says it never exited; it was just the curse. She says they didn’t die, and he says maybe the graves were moved, or he had the wrong address. Lucy says he’s fooling himself. His family isn’t buried. They’re right there. He just needs to be willing to believe.

Lucinda gets more signatures. People line up to sign.

Way back when, Tiana heads up one group, and Cinderella, the other. They’re leaving in the morning. Henry tells Cinderella it will be okay; they take down bad guys all the time. When things are quiet, Cinderella sneaks out. She sees a sleeping Henry.

Forward in time, Henry tells Lucy if she gets found out, she’ll be sent to boarding school, and he’ll go somewhere a whole lot worse. She tells him that he’s just not seeing it; look closer. He says there’s nothing there, but she says there is. She shows him a piece of glass, telling him it’s from her mom’s slipper when she was Cinderella. Henry asks why Victoria would want a broken piece of a shoe, and Lucy says it’s proof. Maybe her mom will believe. She’s going to show the glass to her, and maybe she’ll believe who she is.

Pedaling back, Cinderella goes to the castle where she sees the box in the picture. It’s a casket. Lady Tremaine says she thought it would lure her in. She supposes it’s time they had a proper talk. Cinderella asks what Lady Tremaine did to her father. Lady Tremaine says she learned the truth, and Cinderella asks why, because of her? She wonders if there will ever be a time that she’s suffered enough for what she did. She tells Lady Tremaine to kill her now. She says she’ll get to that, but she still needs something from her. She opens the coffin. It’s Anastasia, perfectly preserved. Lady Tremaine says she has one breath left. She saved it until she could save her; Cinderella isn’t the only one with magical friends. Anastasia was innocent, with a pure heart, and can only be brought back with one equally pure. Cinderella realizes she means Henry. She’ll get Henry’s heart, and if she doesn’t, every person in the resistance will pay the price. Lady Tremaine waves her wand over Cinderella’s hands, saying to sacrifice that boy or sacrifice everyone.

In today’s Washington state, Victoria sees Lucinda with the petition, and says how quaint. Lucinda says she can sneer, but it’s working. Victoria tells her that she’s about to stop, and shows her the plans for the condo online. Lucinda asks why she should care about her crappy condo, and Victoria says what if one of them was hers? Lucinda balks that Victoria would just give it to her, but Victoria say, why not? This way everyone wins. She tells Lucinda to think of the life she can give Lucy. It’s a peace offering in return for one small thing. She gives Lucinda a lighter, and tells her to burn the petition – for Lucy. Lucinda thinks about it, and sets it on fire. I say, nooo! to the TV. Lucy approaches, and asks why she’s doing this. Lucinda knows it’s hard to understand, but she did it for the two of them. She’s not a hero, just mom, doing the right thing for them; they need to be together. Lucy says if this is what it takes, she doesn’t want to be together. She runs off, and Victoria looks triumphant.

At the station, Rogers sees Weaver shake the building commissioner’s hand. The commissioner leaves, throwing Rogers a look. Rogers asks Weaver what he’s doing, and Weaver says he could ask the same. Is he doing extracurricular work? Rogers says the commissioner is a criminal, and Weaver says Rogers is a liar. He opened a case unofficially; why is he interested? Rogers says he’s a bad guy who works for Victoria Belfry. Weaver tells him dealing with her requires finesse. Rogers says he’s letting a lowlife walk the street. Weaver says yes, and when Victoria makes a call to the lowlife, the lowlife will make one to him.

In not-Seattle, Cinderella looks at the sleeping Henry. She reaches for his heart. Her hand shakes, and she cries. She thinks of something, and goes to the cobbler. She whispers she’s sorry. Regina says she doesn’t want to do that. Cinderella says she wants Henry, but she couldn’t do it. Tiana said this man would give his life for the cause, and it’s to save everyone else. Doesn’t that make it okay? Regina says it took her a long time to learn, but it’s not. She takes spell off of Cinderella’s hands, saying that kind of sacrifice is never okay. She asks what it’s about, and Cinderella says she’s sorry, but can’t tell her.

In modern society, Roni asks Lucinda if she’s all right, and Lucinda tells her not even close. Victoria showed up, and Roni finishes, made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Lucinda says Lucy saw the whole thing. She has the idea Lucinda is a hero who does the right thing, but she’s not; she’s human, and just wants her kid back. How can that be wrong? Roni says it’s not, but this isn’t about Lucy. It never has been. It’s about her. She has to ask herself what she’s willing to give up. The Victoria Belfrys of the world will take everything if you let them.

Henry finds Lucy, who doesn’t want to talk about it. They see a crowd at the garden with wagons of plants. Lucinda thanks them for coming. She knows they signed it once, but she needs them to sign again. She’s sorry she let them down. She let herself down, and put the garden at risk. She tells them the garden isn’t what supposed to be. She wants them to show Victoria Belfry that when you truly believe in something, you can change things. If they believe, sign and plant. They’re not just stopping the condos, they’re making something wonderful together.

In the days of corsets, Regina catches Cinderella trying to jet. She says she shouldn’t be here, but Regina says she’s done worse, and Cinderella would be surprised what people can forgive. Cinderella says it’s not safe to be around her. Regina should take Henry home. Regina asks what’s going on. Cinderella explains that her stepsister, Anastasia, died at fourteen. Lady Tremaine blamed her father, but it was really because of her. Regina says now she wants to raise dead. Cinderella says she won’t stop, and doesn’t care who she hurts. Maybe chasing Cinderella will keep her busy. Regina says there’s a reason for Cinderella’s way of life. She’s punishing herself. Regina tells her the first thing is to forgive herself. Not for tonight, but for whatever happened with her stepsister. Make sure she makes her own wish come true, and not someone else’s.

Tiana tells Hook they have to make a move soon. Henry asks where Cinderella is. Cinderella joins him, and says it’s just Ella now. They can’t storm the manor; it’s a trap. Regina used a magic mirror, and saw Lady Tremaine is waiting for them. She asks if Henry is okay; they have to talk.

In Jet City, Lucinda tells Henry the Storybook Garden is a good start. He says he’ll run it by Lucy when he’s done. He tells them see you around, but Lucy has something for him. She gives him the piece of glass. He thought she was giving it to her mom, but she says her mom is already becoming the hero she’s supposed to be. The prince was really supposed to have it anyway. He tells her he’s not going down that path, but she tells him the family he’s looking for is right in front of him. All he has to do is believe. He looks at Lucy and Lucinda, and ponders.

Henry goes to the cemetery in town. He looks at the piece of glass, and sees the headstone of Abigail Mills.

The coffin is loaded into a freight elevator, and Victoria says good work; she’ll take it from there. She goes underground, and tells someone to come into light so she can see them. She pulls on a chain, and there’s a haggard woman at the end of it. She says it’s been a long time since Victoria visited; her plans must have gone awry. Victoria says to the contrary. She’s begun to dig. They tried to stop it, but it was too late. The woman asks why she would be interested in some thing Victoria dug up. Victoria says not something, someone. The woman says she found her. Victoria says she can help bring her back. The woman asks if she’s ready for what that means, and Victoria says nothing frightens her. The woman says it should, and asks if the boy believes. Victoria says no, but his daughter – the woman says her heart is protected. Victoria says she needs to stop believing willingly by having everything she cares about destroyed. The woman says she’s on her own. Victoria says she’s her prisoner, but the woman says they’re both shackled in their own way, and wonders who the actual prisoner is, and to whom. Victoria says this was a courtesy, but the peace offering is rescinded. The woman says she might destroy the girl and everyone she cares about to get her daughter back, but then she’ll have to deal with her.

Next time, it’s Halloween, Alice on loose determined to destroy a romance, and Rumpel is revealed.

Z Nation

The gang is beating the ever-loving crap out of something. When they’re done, we see a bloody pulp with one recognizable eyeball. Doc wonders why they can’t get peaceful Z’s who crave weed instead of brains. Murphy says they have lost the goons by now. They trek through a massive parking lot with thousands upon thousands of vehicles.

Murphy says Newmerica is looking better and better. If he was a Z – and he is an honorary one – this is one place he’d hide and eat the brains of anyone stupid enough to come along. He tells Roberta that he doesn’t want to be a buzzkill, but any idea where they’re going. She says East, and he asks how far? She tells him that she’s not sure, but for now, as far as they can go. She asks Lucy if she’s picking up anything, and Lucy says everything. The camera pans out on miles of cars.

In a narrative voice, Doc talks about what how they’re going east, back into the apocalypse. All this, on Roberta’s orders. He can’t shake the feeling that it’s all a big mistake. 10K says he already knows this, and Doc says he’s working on his inner monologue. Murphy suggests he try focusing on the inner part.

Murphy asks if Lucy is okay, and she asks why he cares. He says he’s her dad, but she says her dad was blue, he cared and they could feel each other and communicate their thoughts. He says things changed. Zona cured him. She says he wasn’t a disease that needed to be cured, and neither is she.

Every once in a while , we see a zombie trapped in a car. 10K can’t believe they had to leave Addie behind. Doc asks if he’s okay about Red, and he says he doesn’t have much choice. He wanted to keep searching; they’d promised each other they’d leave a sign, but there wasn’t one. He says she probably went to Newmerica. Doc hopes so, and hopes Addie is with her. 10K says he’d like to zombify sob who shot Addie. (D’oh!) He tells Doc don’t move. Doc asks if there’s something in his beard, but 10K says no, there’s something watching. Something big; some kind of critter. He aims his gun, and something starts moving around. He tries to get a bead on it. Doc says, rat Z’s? Large zombie rats begin to chase them, and they run just like you would if a large zombie rat was chasing you. Fast. Doc falls. Lucy is separated from the others, and is suddenly wrapped in an electrified net.

Lucy hollers, and the others look for her. Two soldiers take her away, as she yells for help. Murphy drops down from a camper, but one of the soldiers knocks him down, and trains her gun on him. Roberta beats the snot out of her, but she turns the tables, attacking Roberta, who holds her shield in between them. Roberta sees a transmission tower in the distance, and pushes back, beating the woman to a pulp with the shield. Murphy continues to chase the soldier who has Lucy. Lucy is still yelling and the soldier zaps her, and throws her over his shoulder. Murphy calls them Zona SOBs. He looks into a humongous RV, and walks through, pulling the divider curtains down as he walks. He finds Lucy, and she says, behind you. He and the soldier struggle, and Murphy cracks him over the head with a bottle. Zombies start coming in the other way, and the three of them run out the back door of the camper

Murphy says thanks for the help. He asks 10K if he cares about anyone else. 10K says, them, yeah, but Murphy, not so much. Murphy gripes about Roberta leading them to nowhere, and Doc says team work makes dream work, which is the third time I’ve heard that in TV dialogue in a few weeks. Doc wants to stick together, and they all head through the cars again. Murphy is bleeding, and tastes his own blood. He reacts weirdly for a moment. A guy watches from a trash pile.

Lucy tells them that with regular zombies, she knows their names and parts of their lives, and she can talk to them. With the mad Z’s, it’s just screaming, and she can’t communicate. Roberta asks Murphy why he’s blue – ha-ha! – and he says his daughter is almost as old as he is, they have nothing in common, and he doesn’t know what to say to her. He tells Roberta that Lucy likes her more than she does him. Roberta says, so does everybody.

There’s a sneeze, and everyone says bless you, but they realize it was nobody in the group. Lily says, you in the pile, stand up or be mercied. This guy rises and he’s wearing armor put together with things like license plates and hubcaps. They call him an Ender, and Roberta says it’s better than a mad Z. Enders pop out of everywhere, all costumed in pieces of trash, with one guy having a toilet seat headpiece. There’s a brief battle, and the Enders run off with the guns and water. Lily can see the way out from the top of an RV, and Murphy tells Roberta to lead them to the promised land. Roberta is wading through the cars, and Lucy follows. Doc tells Murphy that the craziest person wins. Murphy says it’s time for a vision intervention.

The group sits in a camper with 10K on the roof. Roberta asks what this is, and Murphy tells her an intervention.  Doc says it’s words of concern from people who love her, and I think of Jeff Vanderhoosis from Intervention.  Murphy says she’s leading them into the bowels of Z hell. They’re going to die painful deaths if they don’t change course. He asks if he has any back-up, and Doc says he believes in her and would follow her anywhere, but she’s making decisions for all of them, and lately – is she trippin? 10K pops in through the skylight, and says Murphy has been acting like the blue messiah, and it’s pissing him off. Murphy tells him this is about Roberta, and he says he has no problem with her, and goes back up. Murphy tells Roberta if she wants them to believe, give them something to believe in. Roberta says she feels it in her gut, and it’s not something she can tell with words. Lucy says it’s real; she feels it when she’s near Roberta. Doc thinks maybe they can help interpret her visions.

She’s alone outside. The sky is on fire. It starts to rain; black, ashen rain. It melts everything it touches. Enders, zombies, and her. it burns. In her vison, she screams, and her face begins to fall off. Roberta says that’s all she’s got. Murphy doesn’t think it’s enough. He raises his hand, and says Newmerica. One by one, the others raise their hands. Lucy says Addie said she would meet her there. Roberta says all right. She can’t expect them to believe something she doesn’t believe herself. Doc says, all of them together, and Murphy says, let’s get the hell out of zombie town. They exit the camper. Roberta cries alone for moment. When she comes out, Lily says they won’t let her down, and gives her back her shield.

Lucy says, single file, eyes on her, due north. Lucy thinks they’re wrong; she can feel it. Roberta says what she feels and knows are two different things, and she knows she’s got to get Lucy to Newmerica Lucy says for Addie.

Lily sees an Ender, but Doc says it’s just a garden variety zombie. Lucy says his name is Alex. He’s covered with artillery, and Doc assumes he stole more than he could carry. Murphy says he wants a weapon too, and 10K gives him a pocketknife. Murphy asks if he’s supposed to whittle them to death, and 10K says it’s not the size that counts. They’re about to take the weapons, but Lily tells them to wait. Alex is boobytrapped. Roberta wants everyone to get back, but Lily refuses, saying she can disarm it; they need the weapons. Although we all wait for the explosion, she’s successful, and says the store’s open. They all choose weapons, and Murphy takes a Dark Shadows-ish cane. Doc asks if he’s killing zombies or doing a soft-shoe.

Lucy thinks she sees something, and a mad Z jumps down. Murphy whacks him with the cane, and the rest shoot him. He nearly gets Roberta, snapping pretty close to her face, but Murphy uses the cane to trip him. Murphy realizes the cane is a sheath for a sword, and does a Zorro thing on the zombie, who literally falls to pieces. Murphy says, that’s more like it. Newmerica, here we come.

Roberta is gone. They all call for her, but she’s taken her shield and is moving toward a real transmission tower outside of the lot. Zombies chase after her. She comes to a fence, and climbs up and over a camper. She grabs an ax out of a mercied zombie’s head, and chops a huge wire. It snaps, and she rides it to the tower like a zipline. The zombies gather at the bottom. Roberta sees her hand as bionic. She says, how can you have déjà vu in a place you’ve never been?

Roberta envisions bats, and the zombies claw at the tower. The others look for her. Doc thinks she ditched them, and they should leave for Newmerica without her. Lily says that’s not bad idea, but 10K says no way. Murphy asks if Lucy can connect with her. She feels something, but it’s just a zombie tied to a car. Lucy asks her name, and realizes she’s a bomb like Alex was. Murphy wants Lucy to walk away, but Lucy tells him to go. He’s only making things worse.

The zombies at the tower hear them arguing, and run in their direction. Lily tells Lucy it’s not worth it, but Lucy won’t let her suffer. Murphy tells them here come locals. Lily looks in the car, and the zombie is attached to an entire board of grenades. If she moves inch, they’re all dead, Doc says, puppies and kittens. Murphy says he’s a father, and stabs the zombie in the head. She starts to fall, and Murphy tries to get Lucy to leave, but she won’t go. He says they’ll blow up together then. Roberta returns, and tells Lucy the zombie is gone, she’s got to go. Everything happens in slow motion. They run, the zombie falls forward, and the pins pull from the grenades. Everything blows up.

There’s smoke everywhere. They all start to get up and call to each other, but it’s hard to hear. Like when a firecracker blows up too close to you. Lucy hugs Murphy at first, then pushes him away. Roberta says she found something. The others walk ahead, and Murphy hangs back, looking sad. He takes out the pocketknife, and cuts into an old scar. He eats a piece of his flesh, and gets a little, strange thrill. Blech.

Back at the RV, Doc asks if these are the antenna she saw in her dream, but Roberta isn’t sure. He asks if it was a woke up from a coma now psychic thing, but she says it’s not that either. Lily tries the radio. Something finally comes through and it’s Kaya from the Skya at Northern Lights! She sends a message out to Citizen Z, saying she has a baby who wants daddy to come home. Kaya says, your family is waiting for you Simon. Doc tries to get through, but it doesn’t work. He says at least they know she’s alive and okay. Roberta wonders about Citizen Z, and 10K says there’s nothing worse than not knowing.

10K slingshots a rat. Doc wonders if the Z rat just said ow, but a guy with a rat puppet stumbles out. They seem to recognize him, but I have no idea who it is. He keels over. Murphy says let’s never do that again. Roberta says she’s going east. She doesn’t have much of a choice, but they do. Doc says he hates splitting up; he goes where she does. They all decide to continue on with her. Murphy says he’ll throw some faith her way – for now.

Doc says, puppies and kittens, and they run.

Next time, a zombie funhouse of death

👻 Superstition, another SyFy effort, with Mario van Peebles at the helm, looks promising. He’s certainly no slouch. It’s centered around a demon-fighting family who owns a funeral home.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Oscar tells Josslyn the wholesome family life is different, but she says a life being followed by bodyguards is hardly wholesome. He says it’s still a family, and it’s new to him. He wonders where they begin to look for his father. Josslyn says that they can do this, and they will.

Carly tells Sonny that she likes Oscar, but they can’t be too careful. Sonny says she can’t hover. She says she can, but just can’t make it look like they are. She tells him it doesn’t hurt to set limits, and Sonny warns her not to turn Josslyn into a rebel and cause her to do things she’s not ready for. He tells Carly to leave them alone.

At the hospital, Finn asks if Cassandra is done with her tests. She says she’s done for now. She doesn’t mind enduring it, since she has faith that he’ll get to the bottom of her illness. She points out that his lover is here, and we see Anna on her phone.

At Crimson, Valentin tells Nina it’s official; Jason and Sam have acquired Derek Wells Media. He’s thought it was a perfect acquisition for them to run together, but Nina says it’s freedom to start over. He tells her it’s easier to acquire a company that exits than start their own. She says Jason will clean house and she probably won’t have a job by the end of the week. Jason walks in, and she says make that by the end of the day. She says she knows why he’s here, and he says good, it won’t take long then.

Betsy comes home to Franco sitting on her couch. She says he didn’t say he was coming over, and he tells her that’s because she would have found a reason not to be there. She’ll do anything to avoid telling him the truth about Jason’s twin, and he needs to know. I like the realistic touch of her calling Franco “Bobby,” the same way Nina is the only one who calls Nathan “Jay.”

Patient 6 asks Ava if there was bad blood between Jason and Julian. She says Julian has bad blood with pretty much everyone in Port Charles; even they’ve had their moments. She’s just surprised that he sold the one legitimate enterprise he had. She says he’ll be glad his daughter will benefit, but not so much Jason. Patient 6 asks if she has a picture of Jason.

Finn says, hi, honey, to Anna. She says she was just looking for him, and explains to Cassandra that she has a blood condition and was there for her treatment. Cassandra says it’s hard not to be jealous of a couple in love. She leaves, and Felicia asks them if they’re dating.

Valentin tells Jason that he and Nina were hoping to acquire the company, but Julian accepted his offer, so he must want to keep it in the family. He didn’t know Jason and Sam had backgrounds in communications. Jason says they’re fast learners. Nina says that it’s obvious he came to fire her, so get it over with.

Betsy says she’s told Franco everything. Andrew died from an undiagnosed heart defect. Franco says he’s not sure that’s the truth. He looked for a death certificate, and came up empty. He wonders if Andrew is still alive.

Ava looks on her tablet for a press release, telling Patient 6 that Sam is Julian’s daughter. She wonders why he’s so fascinated with Jason, then says she thinks she knows. He’s been away from Port Charles so long, he must have thought Jason was dead. Everybody else did.

Nina tells Jason she’s not going out without fight. Julian thought she’d sink the Crimson ship and he’d get a tax write-off, but she made the magazine a huge success. Valentin tells her there are other companies she can work for, but she says no boss could be worse than Julian. She made the magazine rise from the ashes, and kept it soaring. Jason would be a fool to fire her. Jason says he knows; he’s asking her stay.

Ava tells Patient 6 to brace himself; it’s a helluva story. Before she came to Port Charles, Jason was shot down at the docs by Faison. He was in a high-tech Duke Lavery mask, and it was very Mission Impossible. He fell into the water, and Helena found him. She kept him in a clinic, but he escaped. He was recaptured, and escaped again, but was hit by a car. His injuries were severe, and he required complete facial reconstruction. Patient 6 asks if he had an ID. She says no ID, no face, and for two years, he didn’t even remember his name. He asks why they thought he was Jason, and she says Carly figured it out.

Carly tells Sonny that she’s almost at the point where she’s going to force Oscar to introduce her to his mother. Sonny asks what she’s going to do if Oscar’s mother forbids him to see Josslyn, and Josslyn blames her. He suggests waiting until she asks to meet, but Carly says she has to do something now.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he asked his mom about his dad again, and she told him to leave it alone. Josslyn says it’s up to them then. He tells her the father was left blank on his birth certificate, but he was born in Austen after his mom moved there from San Diego. Josslyn says they’ll start in San Diego. He says his mom’s name and a city isn’t much to go on. They almost kiss, and Carly pops in, asking how the homework is going.

Betsy says if Franco couldn’t find the death certificate, it must have been misfiled or has a typo. Andrew existed for a brief time, and doesn’t deserve to be forgotten. It broke her heart to say goodbye to him. Why would she lie? Franco asks if she’s kidding after telling him that Andrew was imaginary. She says she did it to protect him, and he says there was no reason. He’d thought she was the one person in the world who would never lie to him, but he’s starting to question it. She says she did nothing wrong, except take in a child the Quartermaines didn’t know existed. Franco asks her to help him find peace. He wants to see Andrew’s grave.

Josslyn tells Carly that they were just wishing each other luck on their projects. Carly says luck is good, but hard work is better. Oscar says she sounds like his mom, which is a perfect segue for Carly, who wants to meet her. Oscar says she works a lot; she’s a doctor at Mercy Hospital. Carly says she works a lot too, but can Oscar make it happen? He says he’ll try, and Carly says she’s sure they can come up with a mutually convenient time. When she’s gone, Josslyn says she’s impossible. Oscar says it’s okay. His mom is so busy, it probably won’t happen – ever. Josslyn asks if her mom seems like the type to let things go.

Inside, Sonny tells Carly they’re kids, and meeting parents is a big step. Carly says they’re making a big deal out of nothing, and they’ll get along fine.

Jason doesn’t want to mess with success. Nina wonders why he didn’t just say so, and he says she didn’t give him a chance. Valentin takes Nina aside and asks why she wants to work for a CEO with no experience. She says she didn’t have any either, and she loves her job. He tells her that she’s exceptional, but Jason has the good sense to keep her on, so he’ll leave her to negotiate. He leaves, and Jason tells Nina that he didn’t seem very happy. She says he isn’t, but he supports her career and independence. She’s sure she wants to stay, but they need to iron out a deal about creative autonomy.

Valentin gets a text from Cassandra, asking if they can pick up where they left off last night.

Felicia wants to know why Anna didn’t tell her about her new beau. Anna says it’s new, unbelievably new. Felicia says she and Mac have had a renaissance in their marriage, so she’s glad to see new love. She tells Finn to treat Anna right, and Finn says, do no harm. Felicia tells him the healing gods are watching, and she can’t wait to tell Mac. When she’s gone, Finn asks Anna if they have to fool a whole city, and she says, yes, honey.

Franco says Betsy must have visited Andrew’s grave. He babbles about how she can tell him stories about the two of them as toddlers during the ride. She says they both crawled and walked at the same time, and talked baby talk to one another as if they were the only two who understood each other. Andrew learned his numbers faster, but Franco was better with crayons. Andrews first word was Franco’s name. He asks what his first word was, and Betsy says “mine.” She doesn’t want to visit the pain again, and Franco asks her to just tell him where the grave is. She says he doesn’t want to go to that place – to the truth about Andrew and him.

Patient 6 asks Ava why Carly would think the guy was Jason. She says there were DNA tests, and whatever was found was enough for her to interrupt Jason’s wedding. He asks if Jason was marrying Sam, and she says no, Elizabeth Webber; they had a child together. He finally recovered enough memory to realize he was still in love with Sam. She says they’re surprisingly old-fashioned and believe they’re soulmates whose love will never die. She asks why he’s so interested in Jason.

Valentin sees Cassandra in the park. He says she took a risk confronting him at the restaurant. She says it wasn’t a confrontation; she kissed him. He says it felt like one. She says she was just sharing a moment with an old friend. They used to be business partners and partners in bed, and she’d like to rekindle both.

Jason tells Nina that she’s done an amazing job. She says she was no expert when she started. He tells her he’s committed to making it work, but it’s new to him, and asks if she has any advice. She says when she started, she hired someone who knew what they were doing, and they showed her how to run the place. He asks if she means Maxie. Nina says Maxie was brilliant at her job, but she had to fire her because she betrayed Nina’s trust. Jason says sometimes there’s no coming back from that.

Josslyn goes to a website where she says you can find out anything about anybody. She finds out what we all do when you try that – it costs money. She tells Oscar that she has a credit card for emergencies, and thinks this qualifies. What if he needs his medical history?

Ava asks if Patient 6 knows Jason. He looks at a photograph, and she tells him it’s her daughter, Avery. The picture was taken in her father’s house. He asks if her father is Sonny, and Ava says he obviously knows him well enough to know the inside of his house. That would explain his connection to Morgan. She says that she and Sonny have a kid, the one great thing from a one-time mistake. Patient 6 says that he and Sonny are friends, and he needs her to give him a message.

Franco doesn’t want to cause Betsy any pain. She tells him to stop then; why does he need to know? Andrew is gone. Franco says not from his thoughts and dreams. He’s having nightmares, and can’t focus on anything but Andrew. He can’t do this and be with Elizabeth. He needs peace. Betsy tells him that Andrew didn’t die and didn’t have a heart defect. She made it up. For all she knows, Jason’s twin is still alive.

Ava tells Patient 6 that she’s not his best emissary. He tells her to just take the note to Sonny. She says there’s no point, and he tells her there is if it comes from him. She tells Patient 6 that Sonny won’t read it; he hates her. Patient 6 tells her to figure out an angle, and he can take it from there. Ava would rather not provoke Sonny.

Anna tells Finn if they shut Cassandra down, they’ll saves lives; doesn’t that mean something? He tells her that he only went into medicine for the money and the chicks. Of course it means something. She says then work with her and help her.

Valentin tells Cassandra that his circumstances have changed considerably. He’s married to a phenomenal woman. He has more to risk and lose; home, family and love. Cassandra calls him noble and principled, but says principles don’t pay well. He tells her about inheriting the Cassadine estate, and says he’s fabulously wealthy. She says being rich is expensive, and her business is booming. He says people are dying from her opioids. She says she doesn’t kill people, drugs do, and they choose to pay for them. He says he quit while he was ahead and she might consider following his lead. She says while she has a hugely successful enterprise, money can’t buy health. She needs him to shoulder the burden, and asks if he wants what she has to offer.

Josslyn tells Oscar that sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission. His past has just been paid for.

Patient 6 tells Ava that she wanted to prove she’s a good person, and this is how she can do that. Take the note to Sonny.

Sonny tells Carly that she wants to manage the situation. She says she wants to protect Josslyn. He says it’s her first real relationship, and she’s going to get hurt. Carly says it’s not a relationship; it’s friend dating. Sonny asks if that’s a thing. She says it had better be. He asks what if another girl catches Oscar’s eye, and Carly says she’ll kick his ass. Sonny says he should probably keep an eye on her, and they kiss.

Oscar sees his grandparent’s address, but says they died when he was little. He has no other family, so they’re no closer to an answer. Josslyn says they really need his father’s name. Maybe his mom has something hidden. He says it’s not going to happen. Maybe there’s something hidden, but he tried looking once, and was afraid she’d find out. Josslyn says it’s a big secret, but since she was six, she’s been able to find her Christmas presents every year without anyone finding out. She asks if he wants to go looking now.

Betsy tells Franco that Andrew could be alive; she doesn’t know what happened after he left. Franco is like, he was three; how far could he go? She says he was the kind of boy who said goodnight to every one of his stuffed toys. She gave him up. She loved him and still does, and prays to see him again. She wants to know that he’s okay, and what kind of man he became. She’ll never stop missing him. Franco asks why she let him go, and she says he wasn’t safe. Franco asks why.

Felicia suggests that she and Mac double-date with Anna and Finn. Anna says that would be fun, and Finn says fun is an understatement.

Valentin tells Cassandra that he’s learned that if something is to good to be true, that’s usually correct. She says her security is tight; no one will tie him to her. He tells her that it’s important to be a good example to his daughter. He doesn’t think he could live with himself, knowing that people are dying from a product he distributed. Cassandra says he’s forgotten who he’s talking to. He did his fair share of killing, and could look someone in the eye while they were dying and his heart rate wouldn’t even waiver. She wonders why the sudden attack of conscience. Well, he just explained that, and he killed because he was a spy and a mercenary in his other life. I’m disappointed that he doesn’t say that. They talk a bit in French. I took two years of it, but can only tell you how to pack a suitcase and curse you out. Cassandra says Valentin is at his best when he’s dancing on the edge; it’s the only place he feels safe. She says we are what we are, and he’ll go absolutely mad not being himself. Valentin tells her that he’s not jeopardizing everything he cherishes for the thrill of a game. She says he’ll change his mind – sooner than he thinks.

Josslyn tells Carly that they’re going to the library. Carly says she’ll drop them off. And pick them up. Josslyn says that’s not necessary. Sonny says it’s not like they can get away with anything. Josslyn says they wouldn’t even try. Carly tells Oscar to text his mom, and get some dates when they could get together.

Nina tells Jason that she’s not sure if she and Maxie could ever overcome their differences enough to work together again. She tells him his problem is finding someone who’s not afraid of telling him when he’s wrong. He says he thinks he’s looking at her.

Betsy says Franco has one more chance to step away. Franco says he’s not taking it. She tells him that one day after Andrew’s third birthday, she was fixing diner and heard screaming. He was lying at the bottom of the stairs, twisted and bleeding, and nearly dead.

Ava thanks Sonny for seeing her. He says whatever she’s asking, the answer is no, so go ahead and leave. She says if he sends her away, he’ll miss out on something important.

Jason looks around Ava’s place. He puts his stuff in his pockets, checks his guns, and leaves.

Betsy tells Franco that Andrew was badly injured. He had broken bones and a concussion. It was a miracle he survived. Franco doesn’t understand, and asks what caused the fall. She says he did. Saw that coming.

Tomorrow, Lulu tells Laura to say yes, Doc tells Griff that he doesn’t look like a man at peace, and Sonny asks who gave Ava the note.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Margaret discusses her launch party for cosmetic bags with her staff. She’s throwing a party in her house, which is still under construction. She says it looks like a bomb hit, and it kinda does. Her contractor husband won’t let anyone else work on it, because he thinks the other men will hit on her. She says he’s delusional, but adorable. Margaret talks about Siggy being unhinged at the party.

Michael instructs Siggy on making meatballs. She’s upset about the weekend. She’s sad about Teresa and Melissa, but livid about Margaret. She tells Michael about Margaret calling her Soggy. Michael suggests just working it out with Teresa and Melissa.

Margaret talks to her friends about the weekend. She says she didn’t know they weren’t going to yoga, and that Siggy has no uterus, so she has no reason to cry every day. Margaret is willing to move past it. She says she doesn’t hold grudges, except against her mother. I think that’s a joke.

Frank says Dolores folds clothing wrong. In her interview, she says he thinks he’s going to rule the roost because he’s back, but it’s not happening. He created an issue between himself and Frankie because he overreacted. He tells her it’s the first time Frankie has had both parents in the same house, and they parent differently. She suggests they meet in the middle. He has no problem with that. We’ll see.

Teresa moves her dad’s furniture into her house. She wants him to be as comfortable as possible. Melissa and Joe #2 help. Joe asks what happened in Boca. Melissa says in a nutshell, Siggy thinks she’s too good for them. Joe wonders where Dolores’s loyalty is, since she’s known them forever, and knows Siggy for less than a year.

Dolores tells Frank about what happened, and says if Siggy said she didn’t call them animals, she believes it. She thinks Margaret is no good. She turned on Siggy after Siggy brought her into the group.

Melissa checks out the new merchandise at Envy. Margaret comes by, and she loves it. Melissa tells us that they bonded over being in the same industry. She says she’ll introduce Melissa to the right people. She’s up for any constructive criticism Margaret has. Danielle drops in. Margaret tells them about the cosmetic bag launch. She tells them Siggy blocked her on social media, and Melissa thinks it’s childish. I agree. I don’t even like the word unfriend; it seems immature. (Although don’t let this stop you from watching the movie with that title. It is scary good.) Melissa wonders why Siggy is mad at Margaret, since she’s the one who walked out. Margaret says Melissa and Teresa stormed out, but by the time they got home, she was the mortal enemy. Danielle thinks it’s because Siggy brought her in, and she feels like Margaret should have leaned on her more. Margaret says she thinks she was in shock after Siggy’s eff-you. She calls Siggy from the store, saying that they haven’t spoken and have tons to discuss, but she’s calling to invite her to the launch party. Siggy says she appreciates the invite, but too much happened in Boca that she’s upset about. She doesn’t want to go and be all phony, but she hopes it’s a success. Margaret asks if they can’t move past it, and Siggy says no. She introduced Margaret to everyone, and Margaret called her Soggy. Margaret says she hopes Siggy can move past it, and hangs up. She says that Siggy has to grow up. She’s the type who feels like she owns you because she introduced you around. She says she’s going to text Dolores, and tell her that her sidekick isn’t coming.

Dolores and the two Franks go out to eat. Dolores reminds us about how Frankie’s counselor called about him lagging behind with college applications. Frank says Dolores thinks he’s too rough on Frankie, and asks what colleges he’s seriously considering. Frankie gives him a few names, and says his girlfriend wants to see if they can make it work. Frank said he made the mistake of not breaking it off before college and it was a disaster. Frankie says Frank is more of a multiple girl guy, where he’s a one girl guy. Dolores laughs. Check please.

Joe #2 tells Melissa that the mausoleum wants to know what should be written on the granite. He’s thinking of love will never die in Italian. He says he goes there every morning, and has it together until he walks in and starts bawling. Melissa tells us that he puts on a happy face for the family, but struggles every day with the loss of his mother. Joe tells her that every time he has to deal with something, it’s like reliving the moment and feels like a punch in the gut. He asks Melissa how long before the pain goe away? She says she lost her father when she was seventeen, but it never does. She suggests keeping busy, and Joe says he has to keep his father occupied. In his interview, Joe says they were married thirty-seven years. He’s only been with Melissa thirteen, and would be a mess if he lost her.

Siggy meets Teresa for drinks. Teresa says the last time didn’t end so well. Siggy thinks when Teresa is with the others, she gets caught up in the moment, but one-on-one, she’ll see where Siggy is coming from. She tells Teresa that she’s upset about the cake thing. Teresa admits to letting loose a little bit, and says the alcohol played a part, but Siggy said a lot of things out of character, and then reprimanded them the next day. Teresa says she walked out because she didn’t like what Siggy was saying, and she’s sorry. They’ve both said things they didn’t mean, and she feels bad. Siggy wants to know what Margaret’s excuse is. She and Margaret have a bigger issue. She says she wants to pull the pigtails out of Margaret’s head, she hates her, and everything out of her mouth is another dagger. Stellhe doesn’t want to go to her party. In her interview, Teresa wonders if she’s getting Soggy Siggy or Psycho Siggy; she’s becoming unhinged. Teresa asks why she can’t just come, and Siggy says she hates that effing bitch. Geez.

Margaret tells her husband (yet another Joe) that she can’t live like this with all the construction. Joe #3 says that they’re two months out. She says the design company is about selling fabulousity, and she doesn’t want to be embarrassed.

Melissa and Joe #2 go out to lunch. They go to an Italian pizzeria, and there’s no one else there. Joe tells her that he bought it. He bought into an existing restaurant, but he’s changing the name. He tells her that he can’t keep all his eggs in the real estate basket. In her interview, Melissa says she’s biting her tongue, and doesn’t want to own a restaurant; it’s a lot of work. He shows her the kitchen, and introduces her to the chef, Nicky. Nicky brings out some penne vodka, and Joe declares it fast food, but gourmet. Melissa says when she opened Envy, she let him know about every step along the way, and he totally blindsided her. Joe says it will give his dad something to do. Melissa tells us they’re all worried about his dad, but it feels like an excuse, and she wishes he’d talked to her. Joe tells her that his dad is excited about it.

Teresa goes to a meeting about her new book, Standing Strong. It’s her sixth one. She wants herself in a tree pose on the cover. The editor says she went deep with the last one, but thinks there’s more and Teresa can go deeper. She says in the last one, Teresa still seemed to have her guard up, and the fans want to know about how her life isn’t perfect when she’s getting the girls up for school at 6 am, or missing Joe #1. She thinks it will be financially rewarding. In her interview, Teresa says she feels pressure as the sole provider. She just paid off the restitution, and has to save for the girls’ college. The last book was number two on the NY Times bestseller list, and they’re hoping for number one this time.

Margaret tells her makeup guy that her house is a sh*t show. She finds out the oven isn’t working. She tells Joe #3 to fix it. She ends up calling a neighbor and asks if she can use their oven. The assistants prepare the food for transport.

Dolores goes to Siggy’s house. They’re having a slumber party, and they’re both in pajamas and pigtails. Ugh. Siggy says she’d rather stick a hot poker in her eye than go to Margaret’s party. In her interview, Dolores says that she was vulnerable when she met Siggy, and just coming off of a failed engagement. Siggy made her come out of her shell, and she’ll always have her back no matter what. They do a peel-off mask.

The food comes back, and the party comes together. Melissa, Teresa, and Joe #2 arrive. Melissa says Margaret’s house is over-the-top, psychedelic, and reeks of fabulousity.

Dolores tells Siggy this is better than Margaret’s party. She says Siggy was mistreated in her own house with her own friends; just imagine being in Margaret’s house with her friends. She’s hoping Teresa and Melissa defend them if their names come up. They’re idiots.

Melissa has a cotton candy martini, and my stomach turns just thinking about it. Margaret tells them Dolores isn’t coming. In her interview, Teresa says Dolores is becoming a Siggy minion. She’s sent a text to Margaret, saying she doesn’t know what loyalty is. Teresa says she’s known Dolores for twenty years. Danielle wonders if Siggy or Dolores really sent the text. She can’t tell them apart. To be honest, it was hard for me at the beginning of the season.

Siggy wants to put on music so they can dance. She shows Dolores some of her new dance moves, and the whole thing is ridiculous.

Joes #2 and #3 wonder what’s up with these women. Teresa tells Margaret about how Siggy hates her. Margaret says she can move past almost anything. Danielle suggests she text Siggy. At Siggy’s house, she says Margaret just checked her. She reads the text to Dolores. It says sorry she’s not at the party, and sorry she’s not with the girl who introduced her to everyone. She’s hoping they can meet and put it behind them. Dolores says she’s only saying this because she has to. Siggy feels that she owes it to herself to meet. Dolores doesn’t think it will go well. She thinks Margaret is a sneak who wants to take Siggy’s place in the group. Oh brother. Siggy says they’re meeting at the diner tomorrow. Dolores tells her to close the chapter. At the party, Margaret hopes they can put it to rest, but if the waterworks start, she doesn’t know what she’ll do.

The next day, it’s miserable out. Welcome to New Jersey. Siggy and Margaret meet at the diner. Margaret says she missed Siggy. Siggy says after what happened in Boca, she was hurt. Margaret doesn’t know what she did that was so awful, and Siggy says she didn’t even think to call her about the memorial. Margaret says there was a group text, and it wasn’t intentional. Siggy complains that Margaret had been hanging out with her friends all day, and Margaret points out that Siggy was hanging out with Dolores. Why is Siggy so angry with her; she’s the one who introduced them. Siggy tells Margaret that she insulted her in front of her friends, and she was deeply hurt. Margaret says it didn’t sound like she was coming from a place of empowerment. Siggy says she doesn’t want to empower, but destroy Margaret. Margaret says this is hypocrisy at the highest level. They should be able to laugh at themselves the way they laugh at others, and Joan Rivers would have loved her Soggy remark. Siggy starts getting weepy, and Margaret suggests maybe she should be on medication. Siggy says she’s getting some kind of hormone pellets in her butt, and asks if Margaret wants to come to the appointment. I have the feeling she needs more than pellets in her butt to straighten her out. This chick is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Margaret says the last thing she wants to do is make a girl feel bad. It wasn’t her intention. In her interview, Margaret says Siggy crying in a group of people is theatrical, but when they’re alone, it makes her feel horrible. She says she’s a wiseass, but doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Siggy says Margaret doesn’t realize how sensitive she is. She feels like they don’t know each other, and Margaret says it’s like they’re dating. She says she was just trying to be funny, and truly apologizes. In her interview, Siggy says she’s going to hold Margaret at arm’ length, and take baby steps. Margaret tells Siggy that she’s obnoxious, but can’t help it. Siggy says now that she knows, she won’t be as offended, but Margaret thinks she could use some toughening up. Siggy says when they meet again, she’ll have pellets in her ass.

Next time, Teresa asks Melissa if she’s going to wait tables, Siggy takes a poll about the cake, and Dolores goes off on Danielle.

🌃 On Watch What Happens Live, Siggy admitted she overreacted about the cake. My opinion is that giving someone a fancy cake is like putting the dog in a costume on Halloween. After you take the pictures, then it’s theirs to destroy.

⭐ On Star, Ayanna thought she would cut the girls out after Star tried to strangle her publicist. No surprise, they went to Ayanna’s big party anyway. When they caught the attention of a temperamental celebrity that Ayanna was trying to woo, she had no choice but to kiss their collective asses. Ayanna told Star that she was lost, but Star said they seem to be trying to do the same thing, jump through hoops to impress Ayanna’s dad. While Star figured her own dad, Brody, showed up because he smelled future money, he insisted that wasn’t the case, showing her a childhood drawing she made for him that he carries with him. Carlotta had to rescue Simone from herself, when she went out to create chaos with ex-cellmate Karen, and Derek confronted Alex about her stress shopping. He also admitted that he’d been hiding from the outside world, and confronted a racist a-hole at the deli, although that didn’t exactly turn out well, when the racist overturned Derek’s wheelchair. Queen Latifah’s hair wasn’t that eventful this week, but she sang her heart out at a worship service, while simultaneously, the girls sang the same song at Ayanna’s party, and it was this week’s everything. Star will return after the World Series, when Star threatens to kill Brody.

October 17, 2017 – Patient 6 Meets Ava Again, Undercover Eddie, Blind Side Guests & Yacht Mascots

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Scotty visits Ava. He thought she’d be celebrating how good she looks. She says it’s an improvement, but he insists she’s as good as new. She agrees to it being a lot better. He gives her the proceeds from Franco’s art exhibit, and she whistles. She knew it was a success, but didn’t know how much. Scotty says they cleaned up. Speaking of which, she could use a maid. He sees two martini glasses, and asks if she had company.

Father Cory says Griff was the last person he expected to hear from. Griff says he’s made a decision about his future and the priesthood.

Franco doesn’t find a match for Andrew Frank, and gets annoyed with the computer. Elizabeth says maybe he should ask nicely, and what does he want to know?

Patient 6 sniff’s Sam’s jacket, which is actually a little creepy, and wanders around a little. He picks up a toy motorcycle. He goes out to the balcony, hyperventilating. Sam comes into the apartment, and he sees her through the window. Jason comes in behind her. They kiss. Patient 6 looks worried in a Griff kind of way.

Griff tells Father Cory that he wrestled with his vocation and how to live his life, but got no definitive answer. Last night, it became more clear; he’s not meant for the priesthood. Father Cory says he doesn’t believe it. Griff took his vows seriously. Griff says he’s come to deeper understanding now, and has no doubt. Father Cory tells him faith and doubt go hand in hand. Griff says he realizes he can’t resume his role in the priesthood, and doesn’t want to. The priest asks what could have happened in one night? He can’t make a decision on a moment’s whim. Griff says he broke his vows, and if he had to do it again, he wouldn’t change it.

Ava tells Scotty that he can go now. He wants to know about her evening, and says she has attorney/client privilege. She tells him if she kills someone, she’ll let him know. He thought they were comfortable enough that she could confide in him. She says she had a drink with a friend. He says she’s half-dressed in the middle of the afternoon; is he still here? Ava asks if that would get him to leave, and says he’s not here, but yes, there was a man. He asks if she’s dating, and she wonders if she has to be dating someone to enjoy spending time with them. She asks if Scotty was thinking of asking her out. Scotty asks if she picked him up in a bar, and she asks what difference that makes. He says it makes a big difference. Not everyone is as reputable as he is. Someone might think their ship came in. Ava wonders if Scotty thinks the only reason a man would spend time with her is the lure of a bank account, since they can’t possibly be attracted to her the way she is. Scotty tells her that’s not what he meant.

Franco makes something up about wanting to take Elizabeth’s boys somewhere, and says he was checking on the weather. He says he’s trying to get used to the pseudo stepdad thing. Elizabeth is looking forward to when he accepts himself like she accepts him, but he says it’s only a matter of time before he screws it up. She asks if he means because of Jason.

Sam asks Jason if he wants to go through some bills, while Patient 6 listens from the balcony. Jason grabs Sam and says they have celebrating to do. She thinks they did enough in NYC, and can’t remember the last time she was this happy. He tells her he can. It was a year ago, on September 6th. He repeats the vows they made to one another, and says he wants to spend the rest of his life living up to it. Sam says she wasn’t used to trusting a partner, but he didn’t take away from her independence. He made her more, not less.  She says she meant every word, and the greatest risk is letting another person into your heart. He says she made him take that risk, and he promises to love her unconditionally until death do us part and beyond. Okay, Buzz Lightyear. Sam says she meant it too, and will always be there. Patient 6 looks like he has a headache. Sam remembers their wedding day, when they were surrounded by family and friends, and says they have to treasure each other; anything can happen. Jason tells her not to worry about that.

Griff says his feelings for Ava are real. He tried to ignore and repress them, but he can’t anymore. Father Cory says he owes it to himself to make some emotional distance. Griff says he knows the priest means well, but he has no doubt this is best for him, and the church. The parishioners deserve someone who can focus on their spiritual guidance, and practices what they preach. He can’t do that anymore. Father Cory says he’s disappointed, but won’t stand in Griff’s way. Griff says it wasn’t easy, but it’s the right decision. Father Cory wishes all of his students were as honest with themselves. He tells Griff to continue holding himself under careful scrutiny, and practice his faith and principles, even in his new life. He asks if Griff envisions making a life with Ava.

Scotty tells Ava he put his foot in his mouth, and she says he’s had a lot of practice and is good at it. He says what he meant is that she’s vulnerable right now, around the time of Morgan’s death, and a sleazy guy could take advantage of her. She says nobody takes advantage of her, and thinks about Griff. She tells Scotty that he’s right. She hired an escort. She’d had a horrendous day with no one to grieve with. She’d stumbled on Morgan’s memorial, and they wouldn’t let her anywhere near Avery. On top of it, Michael tore into her, not believing she didn’t want to harm Morgan, and Kiki still blames her too. She was feeling down and lonesome, so she found some fleeting companionship. She tells him to go ahead and judge, but Scotty says he’d never judge her. He just hopes that next time she feels like that, she’ll call him. He’s always there to lean on, and he cares about her. Ava thanks him, and says she cares about him too. Now if he’s done asking about her private life, she’d like some alone time. She gives him the bum’s rush out.

Franco tells Elizabeth that she’s not giving him enough credit. There are plenty of ways for him to screw up that don’t involve Jason. He’s just waiting for the perfect moment to say, surprise! You have a dead twin brother. Elizabeth hopes he’ll be more tactful than that, and he says no matter how he words it, it will be negative coming from him. Elizabeth tells him keeping the secret is taking its toll. It’s eating him up inside, but the nightmares will go away if he tells Jason the truth. He asks her to promise she’ll never leave him, and she says nothing could change the way she feels. Franco gets a call from Scotty, saying it’s urgent they meet. Elizabeth says she’ll tell his clients that he had a family emergency. He thanks her for tolerating him, and says he’ll figure it out.

Sam leads Jason upstairs. Patient 6 quietly opens the door. He wanders around some more, sighs, picks up Sam’s jacket, and moves it. He takes a last look, and leaves. Why did he move the jacket?

Griff appreciates Father Cory’s guidance. The priest says he’s a fine man, and knows he’ll continue to serve the Lord even without the collar. He leaves, and Griff sees Elizabeth. She asks how Russia was, and he tells her he found Ava and brought her home, but it wasn’t easy. She asks if he’s still in the business of saving her soul, and he says he’s not in that business at all any more. He’s leaving the priesthood. She’s sure it wasn’t an easy decision, but she’s not surprised. He asks if they were taking bets, and she says it was obvious he was struggling. She thought there was more in his heart for Ava than friendship. He says there is, but he doesn’t know how to define his feelings, or what they mean for either of them.

Jason asks Sam about the MetroCourt for their launch party. She looks at her phone, and says her mom is stopping by. Jason wants her to tell Alexis that she needs time to decompress, but she can’t. She knows Alexis wants to talk about Kristina. Jason suggests maybe it’s Molly’s turn to keep the peace. Sam tells him that she has a weird déjà vu feeling. Like she left something in one spot, and then it moved to another.  Jason says becoming media moguls overnight takes some getting used to; can she handle it? She reminds him that it’s “we.” No way is she doing this without him.

Patient 6 goes to Morgan’s grave. He gives his now signature sigh, and says he was hoping he heard wrong. He heard Sam and the guy she’s marred to talking about him leaving, and thought maybe he took off like Patient 6 did. He’d always talked about being lost, and now he knows what lost really means. He lost five years, and doesn’t know what happened to him or anybody. He touches the gravestone. He tells Morgan that he went to his dad’s place and saw pictures, and saw him. He got so tall. and now he’s gone. How did this even happen? how did his parents and Michael get through it? Everybody loved him so much. Morgan was named after him, and he should have been there to help. He hears someone, and draws his gun. Its’ Ava.

Griff tells Elizabeth that his affair with Claudette was a lapse on both sides, and something he deeply regrets. He’s never been in a real relationship. Elizabeth asks if he doesn’t want to commit, and he says that when he tells Ava that he left the priesthood, she’ll wonder what’s next for them, but he doesn’t know. Elizabeth tells him to be honest, and hope she is in return.

Patient 6 tells Ava sorry. She says he could have killed her. He asks when she got back from Russia, and she realizes who he is, saying she didn’t recognize him without the mask. He thanks her again for her help. She says it was her pleasure, although it turned out to be more of a sacrifice than she’d first thought. They refused to finish her treatments. And they tried to kill her. She says a friend showed up when she needed them. He’s glad she’s safe, and she says she even flew home first class. She asks how he managed. The last time she saw him, he was barefoot with no money or ID. He tells her that he had help. She asks if Morgan is his connection to Port Charles, and he asks if she knew him. She says he was a dear friend of her daughters, and Patient 6 asks what happened; how did he die?

Alexis arrives at Jason and Sam’s place. She asks how NYC was, and Sam says eventful, and asks what she missed. Alexis asks if she’s talked with Kristina, and Sam says she’s with Parker and very happy. Alexis says she must have left out the part where she quit school. She tells Sam that Kristina is infatuated with Parker, and Parker encouraged her to the point where she quit PCU and went to Oregon. Kristina also blames her for getting Parker fired. Parker decided to move to Oregon, and her sister announced she was going too, refusing to talk to Alexis. Sam tells her that Molly says she’s blissfully happy. Alexis insists she’s making a mistake, but Sam says maybe, but she’s in love. Sam did the same thing.

Sam thinks that Parker has genuine feelings for Kristina, or wouldn’t have destroyed her own career. Alexis says if she did, she wouldn’t have let Kristina quit school, and would have refused to let her come along. Sam says if she’s right, at least Kristina will have the satisfaction of knowing she gave it all she had. Regrets only come when you’re too scared to go after what you want. Alexis says it’s easy for Sam to say. Sam tells her they’ve made a big decision. Jason joins them and says they went shopping in NYC. Alexis is worried they’re moving, and he says no, but they did make a major purchase. Sam tells her that they bought Derek Wells Media.

Patient 6 says Morgan was so young, and had a whole life ahead of him; what happened? Ava says there was an accident, the kind that never should have happened, but it was quick, and there was no pain. At least not then. He was troubled; life didn’t come easy to him. She can’t talk about it, and Patient 6 thanks her again. She asks where he’ll go, and he tells her that he has to find a place to lay low and figure out his next move. She suggests her place, but he says she already helped him once. She tells him to pay her back by letting her help again. Give her a chance to prove she can do the right thing. He asks to whom, and she says herself for starters.

Sam tells Alexis that it’s not just an investment, but a new start for their future. Jason says they’re starting a completely different life, and the kids will now sleep safely. Alexis says happy doesn’t describe how she feels. It’s the one good thing Sam’s father did. Maybe there’s hope for him yet.

Ava brings Patient 6 home. She tells him that she’s glad to have company. Her brother lived with her, but relocated, and her daughter visits, but she doesn’t think she’ll be seeing her for a while. Besides the occasional delivery man, no one really comes calling.

Elizabeth tells Griff that he made a brave choice. He says to break his vows, and she says no, to face his feelings. It’s impossible to keep every promise, but sometimes it’s more principled not to.

Ava tells Patient 6 that her brother’s clothes are still there, and something should fit him. He thanks her again, and she says she’ll put it on his tab. Her phone rings. She answers and says, wth? Something is wrong with her brother. He owns a media company, or did. It’s just been sold.

Alexis asks Sam and Jason when they’re announcing their acquisition? Jason says they just signed the papers, but they’re having a launch party. Diane was concerned about scrutiny from the Feds. Both he and Julian had ties to organized crime, and Jason wants to make sure the press doesn’t slant the story. Good luck with that. He says it’s imperative that the press tells the story the way they want it told. Alexis says they need to make it about who they’re becoming, not who they’ve been.

On the phone, Ava doesn’t understand why no one contacted her. She finds out Diane handled the transaction, and wonders if Sonny bought the company. She says, oh, that makes sense. Her brother dismantles his life, and sells his only real asset to Jason Morgan.

Tomorrow, Felicia asks if Finn and Anna are dating, Nina tells Jason he’d be a fool to fire her, and Ava asks Patient 6 why he’s so interested in Jason.

If Loving You is Wrong

Randal asks what Alex has to tell him, and what the hell Marcie is doing there. Marcie tells him none of his damn business. Alex asks if he’s following her, and he says yes. She asks why, and he says why not? He wants to find out who else she was sleeping with. He tells Marcie it’s not his kid, and she says he can’t imagine how much she doesn’t care. He says he cares so much, he’s going to jack up Alex’s life. Marcie calls him certifiable. She tells him to leave her alone, and he asks again what she’s doing there. Alex says she can tell him. She thinks he should know. Marcie asks if Alex is sure she wants to do this. Alex says Marcie is trying to get pregnant for Brad, and tells Marcie that he’s back home with her, so leave him alone. Randal says if he couldn’t give her a baby, neither can Brad. Marcie says Randal couldn’t give Alex one either. Alex says she thinks the problem is him, and he asks if they’re ganging up on him. Alex tells Randal that she’s going to her appointment, then the supermarket, and the baby store. He says wherever she goes, is where he’s going, and she tells him to knock himself out. She decides to take the stairs, and Randal gets in the elevator with Marcie.

Randal asks if she wants Brad’s baby, and Marcie says anybody’s but his. She tells him that Brad is an amazing man and a wonderful lover. Randal says he knows Brad is terrible in bed, although how he’d know that, I have no clue. Marcie says she’ll have more than one baby for Brad, if he’ll let her. Randal says there’s a problem with Brad’s wife, but Marcie says she can handle it. She says Randal isn’t a problem, just an a-hole. He says Brad had a vasectomy, but she says those are reversible. He calls her desperate, and she says he’s still not a daddy – so sad. Randal says all this time, all this hell, and the kid wasn’t even his. They could have kept it a secret and gone on with their lives. Marcie says she’s not interested. There’s no one on the planet she despises more than him. He tells her that her heart says something else. She says her heart wishes his would stop beating. She leaves and he says women can be so cold.

Marcie calls Larry. She says she needs him to talk to Randal. He needs to know she’s serious. He followed Alex to the hospital, and saw her. She wants him to know Larry is representing her, and maybe he’ll stop this. He says he’ll call her back. Funny, when she met with him, he said that was a conflict of interest. When did this change?

Lots of people and police gathered at and around Kelly’s house. Ian tells Kelly to check on her so,n and he’ll keep an eye on her house. She tells Natalie that she already knows, and will get to the bottom of it. Justice hugs her, and he asks why they took her. Was it because of Ramsay? She asks what he knows, and he says he confessed that he did it. Are they coming for him? She says no. She wants to talk to him about his confession. She sits down with him.

She asks what he confessed to, and Justice says he stabbed him. Kelly tells him not to say that, but he insists he did. She asks why he’s saying this, and he says to help her; it got her out. She asks where he’s getting this, and he says he stabbed him fifty-two times. She tells him to stop it. She knows when he’s lying. He’s not helping her. It’s not what got her out, and it’s hurting her to hear this. She wants the truth, and he says no, he didn’t do it. She asks again why he’s saying it, and he says he wanted them to let her go. She tells him not to lie, but he says he had to do something; he shot the gun. Kelly says that was her fault, but whatever happens, don’t lie. He tells her that he’s sorry. Natalie asks how he knew so much, and Justice says Travis called him. She asks if Travis told him to say it, and Justice says yes, along with the details. Kelly tells him to never talks to Travis again. He’s not their friend, and he’s a very dangerous person. She’s going to try to get clothes for him, so he can go to school. Geez, give the kid a break. Do your really think he can concentrate today?

Outside, Kelly tells Natalie that SOB is messing with her son. Natalie hugs her. Why would Travis tell him that? Now he’s going to need therapy. Travis is ruining her life. She had to put her house up to get out of jail. He caused problems with her job, and now, her son. Natalie tells her to look at the good side. Travis confessed to Justice. She’s going to call Lushion. Kelly says she’ll talk to her attorney; he’s right there.

Steve and Lushion go to the interrogation room. Eddie is there with a couple of FBI guys. Lushion asks what’s going on, Eddie says he knew Lushion was FBI. One of the men says they were apparently running an active investigation at the same time; the DEA is outside. Eddie is DEA. He was brought in before, when they planned o taking out the cartel. Eddie says, surprise, bitches! Lushion says he’s shot people and taken cocaine. He asks where Andrew is. Eddie says it’s time to get out, and tells them to have a good day.

Steve asks Lushion if this just happened. Lushion says Eddie is as crooked as they come. The FBI guy says his cover was almost blown, and the boss is gonna be pissed. Lushion is totally freaked, and wonders how they can go back like nothing happened. FBI guy says that they’re both after the bad guys, and sometimes you have to play with a demon to trap the devil. Keep building Eddie’s file, but they have to play along. Lushion and Steve agree. The FBI guys leave, and Lushion tells Steve this is BS. Steve asks what they do now, and Lushion says, play along.

Kelly tells Ian that they need to talk. Travis told Justice to say what he did. Natalie says she saw him on the phone, but didn’t know who he was talking to. Kelly says Travis told him all the details, and to say he did it. Natalie says they know Travis did it. Ian tells them that the DA could put Justice on the stand. Kelly says it’s crazy how one man can ruin her life. Ian wants to talk to his partner, but says have Justice stop telling the story. Kelly asks if Ian can get her stuff, and he goes to the house. Natalie tells her that it will be all right.

Esperanza hears the shower running. She quietly goes to the closet, and gets her gun. Because people who break in always take a shower. She realizes it’s Eddie, and asks what he’s doing in her house. He says taking a shower, and she tells him get out. She asks why he’s there, and how he got out. He says he’s the Teflon Don; they can’t touch him. She flushes the toilet to make the shower cold, and he asks what’s wrong with her. She asks again how he got out, and he says magic. She asks if he escaped, and he says he walked out like a free man. He wants to work on their relationship. Esperanza calls Lushion, and Eddie smiles. She asks if he’s looking for Eddie, and says he’s there. Lushion says he’s out; he worked out a deal. She tells Eddie she’s beyond understanding this. He says his clothes are off, he’s already there, so let’s go upstairs. She tells him she’ll shoot it off. He has zero respect for himself, their daughter, and her. He’s so delusional it’s crazy. He says his apartment was tossed, and they’re roommates for now. He reminds her who holds the deed to the house. He moves toward Esperanza, and she starts shooting all around him like a maniac. He crawls to the door, and runs out naked. She says she’s changing the locks, and slams the door. Eddie says it’s a turn on.

Marcie shows Ian the house. She tells him the couple who lived there divorced, and he says that’s going around, He’s divorced too. Marcie says, welcome to club, but it’s not one he wants to be part of. He knows she’s having a hard time, and she says she was the only adult in the marriage. She asks what happened with him, and he says they just didn’t fit anymore. Marcie asks if they have kids, and Ian says, three boys. He has them a lot, which is why he needs a house. He and Marcie haggle on the offer a little.

Larry calls Randal, confirming drinks for tonight. He also has something to tell him; something to think about. Marcie wants him to represent her, and he told her that he would. When did this happen? Randal says they’re friends, and Larry says he can help smooth it out. Randal doesn’t want it smoothed, and tells Larry to go to hell and not call him again. That went well.

Marcie and Ian leave the house. Marcie goes to her car, and calls Josh with an offer. She sees Randal on a ladder, and says she’ll call him back. Really? What kind of broker is she?

Brad sees the same thing from inside his house, and says wth? He goes outside, and asks what Randal is doing. Randal says none of his business. He’s installing a floodlight, and Brad says it’s turned toward his house. Randal insists it’s pointed to the alley. Brad says Alex told him about the music, and if Randal keeps it up, he’ll beat his ass again. Randal says he’ll serve him this time, Brad tells him to turn the light away, and Randal refuses. Brad sees a camera trained on his porch. Randal asks why he’s back, and Brad says to kick his ass. Randal says he heard Brad and Marcie are trying to have a baby, and Brad says there’s something really wrong with him. Randal says funny, Brad has one woman with baby who doesn’t know who the father is, and he’s trying to get another one pregnant, but moves back in. As he’s talking, Brad strides over and knocks the ladder out from under him. Marcie and I laugh. On the ground, Randal wails that he’s hurt and going to sue. Brad takes down the light and the camera. Marcie says Randal better leave that man alone. He’s not going to take Randal’s sh*t. He’s a real man. Randal calls for an ambulance, saying Brad pushed him off a ladder, so he needs the police too.

Dr. Raston tells Alex that everything is good. Alex thanks her for what she did, and the doctor isn’t sure what she’s talking about. Alex tells her the DNA test came back saying Randal wasn’t a match. She must have helped out. Alex doesn’t know what she did or how, but appreciates it. The doctor asks if Alex is suggesting she tainted the results, but Alex is suggesting the doctor did her a favor. The doctor assures her that she didn’t do anything, and Alex says it’s not possible. She wonders if there could have been a mix-up. Dr. Raston says anything is possible, but she wouldn’t put her career on the line. Alex is confused, and the doctor leaves to see another patient

Next time, Lushion catches Eddie running around the neighborhood naked, Marcie doesn’t have months to hide, and Eddie says be prepared to pull the trigger next time

Below Deck

Nico insists EJ is drunk and tells him to go to bed, and get his shoes off his deck. EJ says it’s his deck now, buddy boy, surprising me that anyone says buddy boy anymore. Nico asks if he wants to fight, but EJ says he’s cool. Nico says that if he’s not bosun tomorrow, he quits. Baker thinks there’s going to be a fistfight.

Nico tells EJ to put his strips on his bunk, or Nico will put his stripes up EJ’s ass. In his interview, EJ says Nico is way out of line, since he’s Nico’s boss. EJ tells him to apologize. In her interview, Kate says Nico’s ego is bruised because the captain had to call in backup, and the backup is like Ned Flanders. Bri asks Nico if they can’t work together, and tells him to be the bigger man.

As she’s getting into her bunk, Jen says if you eff up, you apologize, an eff everyone. Alrighty then.

Baker says EJ was the least intoxicated of all of them. Jen feels sad. She’s not digging life right now, and got upset with Bri; she’d thought they were good. Baker tells Jen that when she drinks, she stinks. Bri is over it. EJ asks Nico if they’re talking. In his interview, Nico is surprised EJ didn’t run to the captain. EJ insists he wasn’t drunk, and says some people can bounce back, and some can’t. Captain Lee tells them that once the boat is flipped, they an go to St. Bart’s for lunch. Jen is excited. She’s among a-holes, but it’ St. Bart’s, and maybe it will lighten the mood. Kate doesn’t know why Bri is picking on Jen.

The town is beautiful and colorful. Nico tells Bri that it was awkward this morning. Kate and Jen shop, Kate asks if she and Bri made up, but Jen says Bri pretended like nothing happened. Kate suggests just apologizing for overreacting. Nico says the entire season has been stressful. EJ hope they can make it. Nico is cool, but his attitude isn’t acceptable. Bri and Nico go swimming.

Jen gives Bri a friendship bracelet as an olive branch. They both apologize, and Bri suggests they observe themselves when they drink. Nico tells EJ the stress wasn’t his fault, and they need to work together. He’s sorry for being a d*ck about it. In his interview, Nico says EJ isn’t going anywhere, so they might as well squash it and move on.  In his interview, EJ says he’s worked with Nico’s type before. He’ll give him another chance, but he’s not going to – they bleep it, and I have no idea what the bleep he said.

Captain Lee explains that it’s harder docking at night; distances become distorted. He says it’s bad enough during day with a proper deck crew, but at night with people who never did it before isn’t something he wants a steady diet of. They manage to dock without incident, and the captain tells them it was an outstanding job. He thinks maybe he should blindfold them, so they do it all the time.

The primary guests are Leigh Anne and Sean. The Blind Side was based on Leigh Anne’s life. They just want to unplug from their busy lives, and aren’t asking for anything out of the ordinary. She’s a vegetarian, and Matt says it sounds like they’re unpretentious. They’ve requested an award theme dinner, and a tailgating theme beach picnic. Kate says she has no experience at tailgating.

EJ tells the deck crew that he wants the boat looking great for the next charter. Him being bosun, he wants good communication with Nico. They need to work together, and help each other out. He wants to see more team work. Baker says team work makes the dream work. Bleh. In his interview, Nico says even though he went too far, he still can’t stand EJ.

It’s time to greet the guests. Kate gives the tour. She says the guests have Southern roots, are spiritual without being preachy, and sassy.

Anchor is dropped. EJ says Baker has the attitude and charisma to make a great deckhand. The guests bother Matt in the galley, and he tells them what he’s planning for dinner. The table is gorgeous as usual, strewn with flowers, and silver filigree placemats. Kate thinks the guests will say grace, and they do, while she follows along in the back. Matt has been texting his ex, but she hasn’t responded. Nico tells Bri about apologizing to EJ. He listened to her advice, and it made sense. The guests use the water toys, and I laugh when a guy jumps on the trampoline, and ends up sliding into the water. Not the spectacular dive he wanted.

The guests dress for dinner. At the table, they each have a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Matt is running late, since he’s busy with his phone, but he finally gets a text back. Bri ends up putting the bread in the over, and Kate hurries Matt up, telling him the guests are seated. She says it shouldn’t be her job to make sure he’s doing his. They’re on a yacht; the guests would like food. The entrée is grouper with asparagus and quinoa. I’m in. They’ requested bananas Foster, but once again, Matt has no vanilla ice cream. He uses chocolate instead, which would be fine with me, but two of the guests want it traditional. In her interview, Kate says if Matt were an a-hole, she’d yell at him, but you can’t yell at a puppy. Matt tries to make a substitute with fresh cream, but doesn’t fool the guests. This will probably cost the crew. Kate looks at the plates in the galley, and doesn’t know if it’s bananas Foster or a seagull took a big sh*t.

Matt calls his ex. He tells her thinking about her makes him miss her more. Zzzzz…

An awesome sunrise starts the day. Kate tells us that most of the time, yachting is champagne wishes and caviar dreams, but this one is try to survive mediocrity. The guests head for the beach, and what Kate dubs tailgate glam. There are wings and burgers, and Jen shows up in a pseudo cheerleader outfit. Bri thinks she’s going to get in trouble for not being in uniform, and not having Kate approve her attire. Baker helps her do some cheering with her step team moves. The guests are apparently drunk enough to enjoy it.

Matt is vague about dinner. Kate asks if he needs help. She wonders what’s happened, and if she’s been enabling. He’s slipping downward, and she suggests he cook outside the box. In his interview, he says she’s right, and he’s going to pull out all the stops to make up for yesterday.

The guests say it was the best tailgater ever. Kate doesn’t know what’s going on when she sees what Jen is wearing. The guests do some diving off the boat. Bri tells Kate that the beach went well. Kate wants to know when Jen changed, since she came back wearing something different than she left in. In her interview, Kate said she doesn’t mind, but doesn’t like that she wasn’t consulted. She wouldn’t have cared as much if Jen actually looked like a cheerleader.

Captain Lee asks EJ if he has any issues. In his interview, EJ says at the end of the day, he’s not a tattletale, and prefers to deal with the situation like a man. Kate is bummed that Jen decided to wear a bizarre weird outfit in front of the guests, but decides to teach her a lesson. If she wants to dress up in non-uniform things, she’ll be that person. She’s going to be the yacht mascot.

Matt makes ice cream truffles (don’t mind if I do), and Bruno helps. Matt likes having a sous chef. Kate asks the captain to have dinner with the guests. It’s another floral theme, in yellows. The guests get very excited about their surprise guest, and applaud when Captain Lee arrives. EJ calls Bruno Chef Gaston.

Kate tells Jen that she has exciting surprise; she’s going to be the Valor mascot, and gives her a bunch of strange things to wear, like a crazy visor and light-up sneakers. Jen thinks it’s humiliating, and feels like she can’t win. Captain Lee asks the guests about how the book became a movie, and Sean tells him that he went to school with the writer. Matt tells us that he makes steak like a boss, and the entrée is beef tenderloin, with some kind of cauliflower and butternut squash thing. Kate says the ice cream truffle are amazing, and yes, they are. Bruno talks about making desserts with his mother, and Matt is proud of him.

Jen feels like a dressed-up dog in a ridiculous outfit who can’t speak up for itself. Kate says surprise! You’re the Valor team mascot! Jen thinks it doesn’t make sense and isn’t fair, but she comes in and dances around while Kate blows a whistle. The guests wave their napkins in the air.

Matt can’t wait to go home. He tells Nico that he’s getting his ex. In his interview, Nico says he’s trying to distance himself from the problems at home, and Matt is pulling into them. EJ tells Jen that she did a good job, and Kate says the guests had a great time. Jen feels in dark and wonders what she’s not being told. She says when she hears Kate talk, it’s like the TV; she only hears certain things. Jen says that Kate is out to make her life a living hell, but she doesn’t know why. She doesn’t know if she can work with these people anymore.

Next time, the crew has a day off, Kate hates the guests, Nico doesn’t care if it’s wrong, and Jen has a meltdown.

October 15, 2017 – The Sun Sets on the Shahs & Fear the Super Long Finale

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Two finales tonight.

Shahs of Sunset

Reza is meeting with event planner Kevin Lee, but GG gets there first. She shows Kevin her ring. In her interview, she explains how things happened fast with Shalom, even though they’d lived in the sane building for years. She says it’s not a normal relationship, but she’s not normal. Reza walks in saying Kevin’s signature phrase, chi, chi, chi! He shows Reza the décor for the Persian Winter Ball. I love this stuff – white branches and tiny white lights, candles, subtle sparkles of snow, and beautiful flowers in whites and greens. GG tells him that she talked to Jessica, who said she reached out to his mom, but Sue totally shut it down. Reza says her intentions are to protect her son, but Mike needs to say it’s his road and he’s the one traveling it. GG asks who’s going to let her know. Reza says she is. She says she’s Mike’s momma, but Reza says there’s a mitzva in her path, and she has to embrace it. Talk to her as one Persian woman to another.

Vida whines in the back seat of the car as Tommy drives. MJ is bringing Christmas to her father in matching PJs with Tommy. She calls Vida an effing bitch. She hasn’t seen Shams in over a month. Tommy is like goddammit! It’s Christmas; shut up!

Tommy sets up a tree in Shams’s room. MJ even brought dogs Ziggy and Toya in little Santa suits. Vida acts like a different person – a nice, normal person, giving Shams accolades for talking and eating. MJ says after her parents got married, he wasn’t the romantic guy Vida thought he was, and she didn’t stick around to make it work. They take a family photo. MJ tells us that Vida thinks since it didn’t work for her, it’s not going to work for MJ either.

Eez Not Right is Reza’s play, and he’s excited to see it on the theater marquee. He and MJ have been practicing for a few weeks. MJ arrives, and says she’s going to knock his socks off. She tells us that she took acting in high school. Monica Lewinsky and Eric Menendez were in her class. A guy in one of my acting classes, who was also a scene partner of mine, made headlines too, but sadly, it was because he was murdered by Jack Henry Abbott. MJ says that Eric was good at tennis. She suggests they rehearse, and stumbles over her lines. Reza says he should have gotten GG, but they laugh their asses off.

Tonight is just for friends and family, but if Reza gets the reaction he’s hoping for, he’s taking it on the road. Asa is on bedrest, and he’s disappointed she can’t be there. His method to not laugh on stage is thinking of nasty things, that no one needs to see here. Reza starts laughing the second he sees MJ on stage, so it didn’t work anyway. The play is basically about two grandmothers discussing the upcoming marriage of their grandsons, one of them feeling that it’s an outrage. We come to find out that the grandmother isn’t upset because it’s a gay marriage, but that one is a Muslim and one is a Jew. In his interview, Mike says that in the melting pot we call America, Iranians are now intermixing, and parents don’t understand. They want their children to “stick to their own kind,” and he’s a perfect example. We flash back to Sue discouraging him marrying Jessica. The play is well received. Reza says that he’s spent his journey wondering where fits in religiously, but now feels like it’s a closed chapter. He’s hoping the play might do some good, and people will learn. I’d totally pay to see it.

At Reza’s condo, the cats go nuts. Adam says they need a house. Reza says they’re getting one. He says that it’s obvious Adam doesn’t want to foster or adopt, and it looks like they’re going the surrogacy route, which requires a lot of coin. Reza is cashing out on his vacation house for a new house and beginning the baby process. Adam talks about having a chicken coop, but Reza makes fun of it, saying chicken are stupid. When he compares Adam to a chicken, Adam has enough. He says Reza talks down to him, and shuts him down. In his interview, Reza doesn’t like being dismissed when he’s been doing a lot of compromising. He thinks they need the Torah right now.

Reza visits Asa. Her place is filled with all kinds of cool baby stuff. She tells him that she can’t eat much. She’s been trying to do some work, but has no energy. She feels like she’s neglecting everything else that needs her. Reza asks if she feels a disconnect from everyone, but she says it’s more of a connect with herself. She was hurt for a while. She felt attacked and ganged up on, and who needs it when they’re pregnant? They’ve been in the same mindset for six years, and Asa has grown out of it. She needs to do her, and if she sees them, she sees him. She wants love and support right now, and after that, she’ll see.

The set up for the winter ball beings. Kevin calls it magic and fabulous, and it is. In addition to the aforementioned decorations, there are also big illuminated snowflakes everywhere. Reza goes to a kiki at MJ’s, whose condo looks amazing now. My mouth fell open. It’s like Martha Stewart was there. After the blow out with Tommy, MJ got a dose of reality that she needed to deal with. Once they put the pieces back together, she felt strong, and needed to execute the things she let fall by the wayside.

Reza asks Adam what’s wrong. He says Reza has been disrespectful and dismissive, and it makes him question the relationship. He says Reza goes for divorce card immediately in an argument. For him to throw that out makes Adam feel disposable. We flash back to before they were married, when Reza was hesitant. In his interview, Adam says he never wants to feel that way again; the way he felt when Reza called off the wedding. Reza says he doesn’t speak up a lot in the relationship, and the first time he does, Adam is dismissive.

Mike walks in, and tells Adam he can cry later. Everyone is astounded at the way the place looks. MJ wants Adam and Reza to finish the conversation. Adam says it’s stupid, and didn’t want to have it in the first place. He just wants to move on.

Mike says it’s not just a ball; it’s a Persian ball. Everyone is in tuxes and furs (most of them fake), and there’s a buffet like no other. Tommy says the food is ridiculous. I love to hear these guys talk about the food. I’ve never had Persian food, but I’m dying to, especially when I watch this show. GG shows off her ring. Reza says don’t run around the party, flashing or stabbing people with ring. At a Persian party, they’ll come to you.

Fake snow falls MJ inhales some. Mike’s mom arrives, and he gives her a wrist corsage. Like it’s the prom. Reza tells GG she’s the conduit. GG says it’s hard enough to talk to someone’s mom, but talking to a Persian mom? You don’t do that. She wants Mike to be happy, and goes for the tequila.

MJ suggests the moms go out together, so they can talk about how the kids never listen. GG takes Mike’s mom aside, and tells her that he still loves Jessica. She knows he’s hurt, and feels for him. GG brings up the email Jessica sent Sue. She thought it was sweet of her to apologize. Mike interrupts, and asks what they’re talking about. GG says she was telling his mom something, and he says it better not be what he thinks. GG says she’s not saying anything wrong. Mike steps away, and GG says maybe Sue could give Jessica another chance. We all make mistakes. Sue agrees, but says she was like a mother to Jessica, and if you leave, nothing can be fixed. She says sometimes you make a mistake that can’t be reversed.  They go to the buffet.

Mike asks GG what she was talking to his mother about. She says they’ve known each other forever, and he her not to get involved in something that’s not her business. She’s already caused enough problems in his life. We flash back to GG accusing him of hitting on her in Turkey. GG tells him that she only told Sue that his heart seemed to be with Jessica. Mike says his mother is there for a good time, not to talk about things that have nothing to do with her. GG is upsetting her. GG says talk to Reza. He’s the one who said she had to speak up, because Mike is scared to. Mike says it’s not her effing business. It’s his effing life and he’ll handle it.

Reza tells Mike that Jessica sent his mom and email. She was super apologetic, and super loving, wanting to get back together. He says if Mike doesn’t try one more time, thirty years from now, he’ll wonder what might have happened if he had. In his interview, Reza says he can’t believe how an almost 40-year-old, muscly Persian has his mom pulling the strings. You can’t live to make others happy; the outcome is always a disaster. Mike tells Sue that if she sees something he doesn’t, she should say something; he values her opinion. But at the end of the day, his decisions are his, and he’s a grown man. It’s his choice if he and Jessica get back together.

MJ asks Adam what’s going on. Adam says he and Reza had an argument, and Reza’s initial reaction was to leave. It reminds him of Thailand. It’s hurtful, and makes him want to reevaluate being married. MJ tells him that he doesn’t want to start the new year without a clean slate. Reza joins them. MJ says Adam told her about Reza using divorce as a threat. Adam says it makes him wonder if he married the wrong person, and his emotional mindset goes back to when Reza backed out at the last minute. Then he pulls back. Reza apologizes, saying it wasn’t his intention. He said it in the heat of the moment. He loves Adam, and he’s sorry.

In his interview, Reza tells us this stage of adulthood is hard. Growing up doesn’t mean he can’t have fun. He’s not the same, but better. Not just him, everyone is in the same spot. Asa got off the path to have a kid, but the rest keep growing, keep loving, and keep laughing. It’s who they are, regardless of how old they get. Reza announces that GG prepared something.

GG thanks everyone. She says it’s been an amazing year, and being selfish, her year was revolutionary. She went to Israel, realized how much she loves Shalom, and he put ring on it.

A month later. They get married, just the two of them, by a justice of the peace.

Two months later, they split.

Reza tells us, who says they saw that annulment coming? He did. I did too, but I think they’re back together again.

I’m going to miss these guys. I’m always sad when the season is over.

Fear the Walking Dead

Part One

We see a shopping cart filled with zombie heads, snapping at each other. Nick pushes the cart down the street, lopping off heads, and tossing them in. Okay, wth now? He takes them to the bartender at the Bizarre, who chops off their faces, and digs around for the brain stems. He says the longer the wait, the greater the risk of infection, but some people say it’s a high worth dying for. The Proctors will pay for as many fresh ones as he can bring. It helps them to fight longer, harder, and without sleep. Nick asks who they’re fighting, and the bartender doesn’t know, but thinks they’re gearing up for something big. Nick says he’ll keep harvesting as long as he keeps getting paid.

Troy watches people doing busywork.  Everyone looks like they’re having a decent time. Nick has a drink, and Troy leads him away. He says he’s been talking to the Proctors, and thinks they’re in trouble.

Madison looks out over the dam, and Victor asks what she sees. She tells him a murky mud pit, and he tells her to see past that to corn, melons, beans, irrigation, agriculture, and cattle. Isn’t the country what she wanted? She says she wanted a future for her kids, and maybe grandkids to spoil. Christmas surrounded by babies, and roasting a turkey. He figured she was more the sandwich type, but she says she used to make iced angel cookies with the kids. She’d thought they could have that life at the ranch. Victor says she can have that there. He says they can build paradise, and her kids can come home to it. He tells her to picture it, but she doesn’t know about that. He tells her that she needs some liquid imagination. What you call scotch.

Diana tries to talk Alicia into selling her hair again, telling her that she’s sitting on a goldmine. They good-naturedly banter back and forth, and suddenly, the car is T-boned by another car. Diana tells Alicia to get out, and a bunch of guys jump out of the other car. Diana fights with them, an Alicia slashes at them with her knife. One guy tries to take their gun out of the car, but Alicia grabs him. While she’s dealing with that, Diana clocks another with her pickax, but gets hurt. Alicia gets the gun and starts shooting into the air. She tells them to get out now, and they run. She should kill one just to send a message. Alicia tells Diana not to look, and makes a tourniquet for her wound.

Walker visits Daniel, and gives him Ofelia’s rosary. Daniel says the questions keep turning; why her? Walker says he wonders if he had been there, if he could have stopped it. He doesn’t know the answers though, because he wasn’t there.

Madison bogarts the scotch bottle. Victor says he can’t blame the kids for striking out on their own. Madison says they’re her kids, so she can. She wonders how long until The Odyssey, The Iliad, and The Bible are forgotten. Victor says they’ll write new stories. She tells him out with it; the scotch wasn’t just for her. He asks if she’s killed anyone. Has he met her? She says she’s had to, and he says he hasn’t. She says he’s lucky, but his day will come. He suspects she’s right, and she tells him it drives some people mad, and never gets you what you want, but it gets easier. Daniel approaches, and says her son is here.

Troy tells then that he found weapons and boats. The Proctors have no regard for human life, and will turn the water off, holding it hostage. Daniel says there are three entryways. They’ll post guards at each, and pick them off at the bridge. Efrain thinks they should blow up the dam. Release the river to the people. Daniel says whoever wants to leave, should go, but whoever stays has to help defend them. Victor thinks Madison and Nick should go. Troy says he’ll help, but Daniel questions his loyalty. Troy says he’s the one who gave them the information, and Madison vouches for him.

Outside, Madison tells Nick she hopes he’s using clean works. He says he’s not using; it’s something else. She says they need to get out before the Proctors show up. They’re worse than anything else they’ve seen. Madison says she’ll decide after he eats.

Walker is packing up his stuff. He tells Daniel that he’s going to look for some people who went north. He thinks Daniel is honorable, but he’s not willing to die for his cause. He says he and Crazy Dog will scout the road on their way out. Daniel tells him good walking, and they shake hands. Oh man, I hope they don’t kill Walker off.

Alicia brings Diana to a medic. He asks if she can assist, and she says she has no formal training, but was a hospital volunteer. The guy says degrees are worthless anyway. He lost his license in the 90s over a misunderstanding with a lady patient. Alicia advises him not to have a misunderstanding with Diana, who’s good with a pickax. He tells her he has another surgery to do, and could use an extra pair of hands. She seems like a quick study, and he just needs her to hand instruments to him and keep the patient occupied.

Nick looks in the refrigerator, and it looks like mine when it’s not a pay week. Victor tells him that he and Madison have to get out of there. He knows something that makes the narcos look like church ladies. He’s dealt with the Proctors before, and they intend to take all the land between there and the Gulf Coast. He’s supposed to help them get in, and part of the deal was to protect his family. He wants to cut a deal to protect his friends, as well as get himself set up. Nick asks if Madison knows, and Victor says she’ll tell Daniel. If Daniel finds out, He’ll kill him. He tells Nick to get Madison out.

Nick sees Daniel. Daniel tells him that Madison is wiring the dam with a friend, and he wants to ask him something. Was he with Ofelia when she got bitten. Nick explains that he wasn’t trapped in the bunker; he was outside. Daniel asks if he saw it coming, and Nick says not until it was too late. It came out of the wilderness. Troy saw it, and warned him. They thought they could redirect it, but it was already too close and too big. Nick says Ofelia was in the bunker with Alicia. Daniel gets up and padlocks the door. Wtf? He says Nick is lying.

Daniel says Nick knows his background. Nick says he interrogated people in the military. He asks if Daniel is going to torture him, and tells him it’s not what Ofelia would want. Daniel says she’s dead, Nick says she’d thought Daniel had changed, and Daniel says she thought wrong. His mother is wrong too. People don’t change; they walk in circles. He tells Nick to sit. I call Daniel a sh*tball.

Troy tells Madison that life is funny. They walk in circles, and here they all are together in Mexico. They plant explosives as they talk. He tells Madison that the trading post isn’t good for him – or Nick. He knows she’s worried, and had a right to be; they had quite a night, He never felt scared before, but he felt fear. Nick is his only friend; they’re like brothers. Madison thanks him for looking after Nick, and says keep doing that. Troy makes a derogatory comment about Mexicans, and she says not to talk like that; they’re guests. Troy says they were guests at his ranch. Now they’re a blended family. He says he got right with everything that happened, and asks if they’re good. She says they are.

Daniel asks why Nick is lying about Troy. Nick says he didn’t kill Ofelia, but Daniel believes that. What he doesn’t believe is that the horde materialized out of thin air. It needs a shepherd, someone to lead it. Daniel asks Nick to tell him; he doesn’t want to force him.

Doctor Eddie introduces Alicia to Proctor John as his new assistant. She wonders what happened to the old on. John asks who she is, and she says Alicia from Los Angeles. She asks if he’s the leader of this place, and he tells her, good guess. He explains that he’s a humble MC from SoCal, but has plans for expansion. The only thing stopping him is a growth on his spine; he’s becoming paralyzed. Eddie has been doing the best he can, but the pills are dulling his mind, and it’s time for surgery. Her only job is to assist, and if it’s successful, she has an amazing opportunity to come to Texas and beyond. She asks what if it isn’t, and he says if it fails, everyone in the room will be executed, starting with Eddie. This should give them incentive to do their best.

Daniel tells Nick that only three people could have done it – him, Jake or Troy. Nick takes a deep breath, and says Jake. Daniel says Troy, but Nick says no. He’s an SOB, a bigot, and a killer, but he loved the ranch, and wouldn’t have put it in jeopardy. Jake did it when he found out Nick killed his father. He couldn’t take it, and destroyed the ranch to save. It. Eventually, the horde he led killed him. Daniel tells Nick that his mother will be happy to see him, and gives him the key to the lock.

Alicia doesn’t think it’s safe, not putting John under, but Eddie says it’s her job to keep him still. She distracts John by asking him about the safest place he can remember. He talks to her about his aunt and uncle. Eddie cuts into his back, and Alicia asks questions. Eddie says he can see the tumor, and they talk about Santa Barbara. Even though he’s the one wide awake during surgery with barely a whimper, John call Alicia a tough kid. She says he has no idea. He finally screams.

Daniel looks at water coming out of a pipe, and says it should be pumping west, not dumping there. Victor is sure Lila has it under control.

Troy explains the detonator to Madison, and says they have to get out. Nick shows up, and tells them about Victor selling them out. He says if Daniel sees Troy, he’ll want to kill him. Madison asks why, and Troy says he led the horde to the ranch. She tells him it wasn’t right, but he says the Indians had it. She says they all had it, but he says not all, she exiled him. Madison says she let him live. After all they did to keep the peace, he took everything from her. Troy says what about what she took from him? He lost his father and his brother. She says he got them killed and had no right. He says he had every right; it was his home. He’d do it all again, and she would too. He says she understands, and suddenly, she whacks him with a hammer. He sinks to his knees, and she hits him again. He rolls down an incline, dead. Nick looks sick, and I gasp out loud. Nick is like, whoa. Madison takes the detonator and leaves.

After John recovers for a whole five minutes, Madison asks him if he can wiggle his toes. After a few tries, he sits up. He calls Eddie a bastard, but says he had faith in him the whole time. Eddie is a freakin’ miracle worker. He asks if Alicia is ready to hit the road. She asks if she has a choice, and he says not really, and holds out his hand.

At the dam, Lola says the water is running the wrong way. Victor tells her to step away, and holds a gun on her. Daniel says he knows who Victor is. He’s not his friend, but he’s a con man, not a killer. He tries to get Victor to give him the gun, but that’s a no, and they struggle. The gun goes off, and Daniel ends up getting shot in the chin. It’s not a fatal shot, but he’s down, and Lola runs to him. Victor keeps the gun on them.

The Proctors go through the tunnels. Nick and Madison see them coming, and run. The Proctors are all over the place in a couple of seconds. There’s a gunfight between them and the guards, with walk-on characters dropping like flies. Efrain gets shot through the window of the office. Victor tells Madison and Nick that they have to hide. He unlocks a door, and they go inside. He asks for the detonator, and says he’ll do everything in his power to prevent harm from coming to them. Madison gives him the device. He locks the door from the outside.

Part Two

Winter Wonderland plays while Madison rinses the potatoes in a pretty cabin. She sees a car coming, and goes out on the porch. She walks out to meet the car, and passes the graves of everyone on the ranch who has passed. She sees Nick with Luci and a baby. She looks down to Alicia’s grave. She wants to see the baby, but Luci won’t let her. She follows them back to their car. They get in and drive away.

Alicia and John take a boat to the dam. Alicia sees dead people floating in the water. They’re met by the rest of John’s men – and Victor. He tells John that someone knew they were coming, and it was beyond his control, but all is well. John doesn’t think so, since there are corpses in the drinking water. They were told to secure the dam. Victor says that’s what they’re doing. John says he’ll get a full accounting later. He wants the grand tour, and plan to be persuasive. Alicia quietly asks Victor about her mother, and he says she’s hidden. Nick came to warn them. She asks, now what? and he says to trust him; he can get them out.

Nick asks Madison if she’d kill him too. She tells him that’s insane, but he asks if she didn’t wish for that call when he was using. She says she never wished him dead; what kind of a mother would she be. He says honest maybe. She tells him that Troy needed to be put down; it’s the world they live in. Nick says they always lived in that world; it’s just that now it’s okay. She says one day he’ll have no choice, and Nick says not with her. Madison says she’s never hurt him. He asks hat if it was necessary, and she tells him to stop it. They hear shots being fired outside.

Lola tends to Daniel. He says the two of them will escape. He waits while she goes up the ladder to the dam.

Alicia admires John’s high pain threshold, and he asks how she knows Victor. She says he helped her family get out of LA. Her mother and Victor were friends, and she thought her mother might be there. John asks her mother’s name, and says she is there. She was one of Victor’s deal points; they were to spare her. He hopes she hasn’t been killed yet. Alicia asks if he’ll spare Madison if she’s alive. He says she was part of a larger negotiation that collapsed, but Alicia has served him well in a short time. Can she continue to do so, and can he trust her? She asks again if he’ll spare her mother, and he says he will if she’ll come on board his ship and sail for what’s left of Houston.

Nick and Madison hear someone coming in, and wait on either side of the door. Victor says he told them to leave, but they had to be stubborn. Alicia is there with Proctor John. Maybe he likes her enough to let them go, but don’t bet on it. He gives them uniforms, saying he’s going to walk them out right under the Proctors noses. Madison says his time has come, hasn’t it? He says just please put on the uniforms. Madison says he killed someone, and asks who it was. Victor says Daniel. He did it for her. He didn’t kill him though; he was alive when Victor left, but it was the worst thing that ever happened. He let Lola go. Even though she’d said it gets easier, he couldn’t do it. Nick says there’s hope for him yet.

Lola sneaks into the office, and sees Efrain dead. No time to grieve though. She cocks her gun.

Victor holds a gun on Madison and Nick, who are in uniform. There are people being shot, and tossed off the bridge up ahead, but he tells them to just keep walking. A guard stops them, and Victor tells him that Proctor John wants him to dispose of these traitors personally. They go past, but Lola runs toward John, shooting, and John kills her. He asks what fresh hell is this? Well, there’s the pot calling the kettle black.

Daniel opens his eyes.

John is mystified. He thought “water queen” Lola was dead, and she turned back up like a whack-a-mole trying to assassinate him. Victor says he can explain, but John doesn’t want to hear it. He tells Alicia to go to her joyful family reunion. She and Madison hug. He asks what role Nick plays in the family drama. He asks Nick where Troy is, and Nick says his mom killed him. John tells “Alicia from Los Angeles” that she has a perverse family. He says he’ll have to kill them, but he’ll kill her first so she doesn’t have to watch.

John tells them to say they’re goodbyes. Nick hugs Victor, and tells him, safe travels. I’m assuming the detonator switched hands. Victor tells John that there’s something in the end game that he didn’t plan on. They didn’t have enough guns to defend the dam, so they wired it with explosives. John orders Victors tongue taken out. Victor fumbles around in his pockets, looking for he detonator, but Nick takes it out. He says it’s armed, and Victor tells him don’t touch the other button. Nick asks if he means the one that says detonate.

Madison takes the turkey out of the oven, and brings it to a table of guests. Daniel, Jeremiah, Troy, some other dead guy whose name I don’t remember, and Walker are there. There’s an empty chair at the head of the table. Walker gets ready to carve. Victor comes to the door, with a pile of gifts and flowers. Madison shows him in. She lifts the cover on the turkey, and it’s Jeremiah’s head on the platter.  Walker has cut off his head, and the blood gushes from his body, still in the seat, flooding the table. Victor leaves, and Madison follows him, but sees nothing except gravestones outside. A plane flies overhead.

Nick holds up the detonator. John says his play, and makes the guards lower their guns. Nick tells him that his mom and sister get to take the Zodiac across the lake. Alicia wants him to come, but John say the detonator will be out of range, and he’ll lose his leverage. Madison and Alicia leave. Nick tells Victor to take care of them. John insists they won’t survive, but Nick tells him not to be so sure. John is interested to see how it plays out, but it won’t be well for Nick either way. Nick isn’t afraid to die, and John calls it junkie bravado. He asks if the detonator is real.

Daniel stumbles out, and kicks some guard ass. Quite well for a man who’s just been shot in the face.

John calls the lake a modern Euphrates. It needs managing. They can’t just give it away. He says Nick can help, but Nick says it’s just one more thing to control. Alicia has trouble getting the boat going, but the engine finally turns over. John says Nick was born for violence, and Nick says he killed the last man who said that. John tells him, like mother, like son; he needs to harness the fury or get stampeded. A war is waiting. The boat stalls.

Daniel sees Lola lying dead on the bridge. He puts Ofelia’s rosary beads in her hand. They’re giving me a heart attack with this boat, which is still giving them a hard time. John wants the detonator, but shots from a sniper interrupt him. From a hillside, Walker tells Crazy dog, nice shot. John says this is a new wrinkle, but not a game changer, since apparently, he’s a real optimist. He thinks Nick is bluffing, and his family isn’t far enough away. More shots are fired, and somehow all the bullets go around Nick. Daniel gets closer, and starts to shoot. Nick sees the boat speed away. He hits the button.

The dam blows to smithereens, and the bridge cracks don the middle. John is led away by one of his men, and everything starts crumbling. Walker and Crazy Dog watch the boat. Crazy Dog says they’ll be drawn into the flood if they don’t step on it. He and Walker decide to head north. We see the water flood the inside of the dam, covering Efrain and Troy’s bodies. Daniel grabs Nick, and the boat gets sucked under the bridge.

Madison walks among the gravestones. She kneels at Jeremiah’s grave, and his hand pops out of the ground Carrie White style. He grabs Madison and drags her into the ground. In the real world, she’s under the water, and starts to sink among the debris, Her hand reaches out of the earth, and Travis pulls her out. She slips back, alternately into the water again. She opens her eyes, swims to the top, and breaches the surface. She gasps for air and swims to shore. People are running around with buckets, and getting water. A little girl sees her, and says, hola. The camera pans out on the newly freed water.

Next week, The Walking Dead 100th episode, preceded by a marathon.
