What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Portia says she can’t reach her daughter, but Curtis says, she might have her phone off. Portia says, that would explain the voicemail, but not the texts. The texts should still be going through, but they’re not. He says, she might be out of range, when Jordan and Dante come along. Portia says, no, no, no. Not Trina. Jordan says, they hate to bother her at work, but they have some questions about an ongoing investigation, and Portia asks, what kind of questions? Curtis says, has something happened to Trina?

Spencer says, this can’t be the last of him and Trina; they’re just getting started. Trina says, they’re on the same page, and he tells her, be careful. She promises she will, and says, they’ve got this, but first, they’ve got to call for help. He says, without his escort discovering her, and she says, any ideas?

Sonny comes out of the hospital elevator looking like he has a headache, and Laura asks if he’s here to check on Anna. He asks how Anna is doing, and Laura says, she’s out of surgery. They just moved her to ICU. He says he’ll take any good news where he can get it, and she says she takes it he doesn’t have any leads on Spencer. He says, or Victor, but don’t worry. When he finds Victor, he’s going to pay more than he’s ever paid before.

Michael wonders why he has the feeling he’s about to get ganged up on, and Brook says, that’s a little extreme. Sasha says, Willow has something she wants to tell him, that’s all, and Willow says she just needs him to really listen. He says he always listens to her. What’s wrong? She says she wants to get married, and he says, good, so does he. She says, today.

Valentin raises his head, and sees Anna looking at him. He says, if that’s not the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Welcome back.

Michael says, Willow wants to get married today? and she says, tomorrow at the latest. Brook says, it makes sense, now that the transplant’s been postponed, and Sasha says, and who knows for how long, since Liesl is still missing. Willow says she doesn’t want to wait… She can’t wait. Time is running out. She wants to marry him as soon as possible, so they can have as long as possible together as husband and wife. Please consider it. He says, there’s nothing to consider. He’ll marry her whenever, wherever she wants.

While Victor eats breakfast, a guard brings Obrecht in. Victor says, there she is, and may he say, she looks divine. She says, no, he may not, and he says he does appreciate her joining him on such short notice. Breakfast? She says, it looks more like a funeral. All they need now is a body.

Valentin asks the doctor how Anna is, and she says, still at risk for post-op complications, but she was lucky. She’s on track to make a full recovery. Anna thanks her, and tearfully says she’s grateful. The doctor says she’ll be back to check on Anna, and leaves. Valentin says he doesn’t think luck had anything to do with it. God is an Anna Devane fan. He thought he’d lost her. She says she thinks he saved her life, but he says he’s the reason she got shot in the first place. She tells him, don’t do that, and he says, Victor wanted to hurt him, and was willing to take her away from all of them to do it. She says, he didn’t, and Valentin says, thank God he didn’t. She starts to cry, and says, right before she blacked out, she saw something. It was a wall of faces of all the people she loves. She saw Robin, and Emma, and Noah, and him. That’s what helped her fight because she’s not ready to leave any of them just yet. She thinks he’s stuck with her. He says he’ll hold her to that, and kisses her.

Portia says, Jordan needs to tell her what’s going on right now, and Jordan asks if they can go to her office. Curtis says, if this is about Trina, he needs to come too, and they head for Portia’s office. Dante asks Laura if there’s any word on Anna, and Laura says, she’s out of surgery; she’s going to make it. Dante says, that’s a relief. Unfortunately, it sounds like Victor’s list of victims is growing.

Trina says, there’s no reason for the guard to latch the door when Spencer’s not here, right? It’ll work. Spencer says, it better, and she says, they can do this. Know how she knows? Because they make a good team. She will be the definition of stealth, while he creates the perfect diversion. He says, listen to him. His uncle can’t catch her. She says, he won’t, and they hear footsteps. She says, no turning back now.

In her office, Portia asks Jordan to please tell her what’s going on before she loses her mind, and Curtis asks, what happened to Trina? Jordan says, they don’t know for sure, but they have reason to believe she’s with Spencer Cassadine and his Great Uncle Victor.

Ambrose opens Spencer’s stateroom door, and Spencer says, it’s about time; he’s starving. He blows past Ambrose, and asks if they’re going or what. Ambrose closes the door, and Trina comes out. She slips into the hallway, and jets.

Anna asks, what’s happening? but Valentin says he doesn’t think they should talk about that. She says she wants to talk about him, and he says, she should be resting. She says she is; she’s in a bed. Tell her. He asks, what’s the last thing she remembers? and she says, it’s a bit of a blur. She knows he gave the necklace to Victor, didn’t he? He says, Victor was going to hurt her, and she says she would have done the same thing. Did Lucy get out okay? He says, she did. In fact, he thinks she made a grand entrance at the Nurses Ball. Anna laughs and says, of course (🍷) she did. Where is his father? Do they know? He says he knows Victor escaped on the Haunted Star. So far, the location of the boat is a mystery. She asks how that’s possible, and he says he doesn’t know, but it is. She should know, the necklace isn’t the only thing he escaped with.

Watkins brings some orange juice, since he wears many hats, and Victor says he’d hoped they could play nice, but Obrecht is greeting him with threats. If she’s thinking of causing any trouble, she should know he has guards all over this ship, ready to descend at a moment’s notice. Ambrose brings Spencer in, and Victor says, welcome, my boy. Obrecht says, and then there were three, and Spencer asks, what is this? Victor says he thinks Spencer’s already met Dr. Liesl Obrecht, and Spencer asks where his brother is. Victor said he’d be here. Obrecht says, make that four, and Victor says, he’ll see his brother after breakfast. Please, both of them, come sit. They sit down, and Victor says, isn’t this nice? Before we begin, let’s raise a glass to new beginnings. He raises his glass of juice, and Spencer asks how long Victor thinks he can string them along. Victor promised him answers, and he intends to collect.

Sonny says, so Trina is also one of Victor’s hostages? and Dante says, it’s looking like that. Laura wonders, how much damage can one man do in one night? and Dante says, they’re probably as tired of hearing it as he is of saying it, but they’re doing everything they can to find them. Laura says she knows and appreciates that, but this was exactly what she was afraid of when Victor came back to Port Charles. She tried to warn Spencer, more than once. She tried to protect him. Sonny says, she still protected him. They’re going to find him and bring him home. Dante says, that’s the plan, when Laura’s phone rings. She steps away to take the call, and Sonny asks, how’s Michael and Willow? Dante says he hasn’t talked to them. He hasn’t sat down since this whole thing started. (IKR? Of all the guys to ask.) Sonny says, there’s got to be a way to find Victor and bring Liesl home, and Dante says, they still have the guy who tried to kill Lucy in custody, but he’s not talking to anyone. Sonny says, not to the cops, but maybe the guy will talk to him.

Brook says, they can totally do today, but if Michael and Willow are willing to wait until tomorrow, things might be less frantic. Willow says, they’ll do tomorrow, and Brook says, awesome. Everything is going to come together, she just knows it. Sasha says, it will be the best wedding this town has ever seen, and Brook says, well, duh. We’re the Quartermaines. Amelia cries, and Michael asks if Brook and Sasha can put her down for a nap. They take Amelia upstairs, and Willow says, be honest. Is this really what he wants? He says he want’s to be her husband. Of course (🍷) this is what he wants. Did she really think he was going to fight her on this? She says she thought he’d think she was giving up, and he says, is she? With Liesl MIA right now, he knows things are scary. He wouldn’t blame her if she felt frustrated and hopeless. She says, frustrated, yes, and angry, and afraid. But she hasn’t given up hope. She’s praying with every fiber of her being that Liesl is found, and soon. He says, they have every reason to believe she will be, right? She hasn’t even been missing a full day. Willow says, it feels like the days count more than they used to, and Michael agrees. She says, so they need to be realistic. Dr. Randolph told them that she doesn’t have much time left, and she doesn’t want to gamble with what could be her final days. She hates the words as much as he does, but ignoring them doesn’t do them any good. If this is the end, she wants it to be filled with as much joy and love as possible. And so, just like she insisted on pushing up the wedding until after the transplant, now she wants to get married right away. She asks if she’s driving him crazy, and he says, the good kind of crazy. Let’s do it. They don’t know what the future holds, and their time may be limited, but their wedding is an act of faith that they’ll have many more years together, with a family their love created. She says she likes the sound of that, and he says, so does he, and they kiss.

Dante says he can’t let Sonny talk to the perp. Besides, Sonny already took a crack at him. Sonny says he doesn’t know what Dante’s implying, and Dante asks if Sonny thinks he doesn’t know the reason the guy has Diane for an attorney. That’s the only person he’s spoken to. The only lead they have is because of Sonny. Sonny says, the Haunted Star’s untraceable; they have to find a different angle. Dante says, they will. He has people working on it; Sonny’s got feelers out there too. They’re not going to quit, and he doesn’t think Sonny should either. Sonny says he doesn’t want to be put in this position again, where someone that he loves is dying, and he can’t do a damn thing about it.

Portia says, no. This can’t be happening. She cries, and Jordan asks, when was the last time she saw or spoke to Trina? Portia says, it was at the Nurses Ball, and Portia went to her dorm afterward, but she never showed up. Jordan says, what about Curtis? and he says, same. What is going on? Jordan says, they have evidence that Victor Cassadine abducted Liesl Obrecht, along with Esme Prince’s baby. They also have reason to believe Spencer Cassadine is with them as well. Given Trina was last seen with Spencer, who they believe was taken by his great uncle… Curtis says, her theory is that somehow Trina got caught up in it. Jordan says, yeah, and he asks what her department is doing about it. Jordan says, they have a lead, but unfortunately, following it won’t be easy.

Anna says, Valentin’s father has hostages? Who? Valentin says, nothing is certain, but the police suspect he has Spencer and Baby Ace, as well as Liesl Obrecht. Anna wonders what he wants with Liesl, but Valentin says he doesn’t know. Maybe they have value has hostages, maybe they’re part of his master plan whatever that is. Maybe it’s both.

Spencer says, Victor keeps talking about new beginnings, but he still hasn’t told them where he’s going, or why. And from the way she’s glaring at Victor, he’s betting Dr. Obrecht isn’t exactly here because she wants to be. Victor says he knows this whole situation must be very disconcerting to both of them, but Spencer has always shown willingness to protect their family at any cost. He’s counting on Spencer and his brother to ensure the future prosperity of the Cassadines. Obrecht says, as disturbing as that explanation was, she supposes she can understand him kidnapping his own kin, but she certainly doesn’t care about the Cassadine legacy. He chuckles and says, this goes much further than the family legacy. When his plan comes to fruition, they’ll be ushering in a new era of humanity.

Sonny tells Dante that when his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s there was a damn thing he could do about it. There was no lead he could take. It was this awful disease that was happening to them. Dante says, same thing with Stone, and Sonny says, all he could do was just stand by there and watch him slip away. And no matter how ugly it is with him and Michael, he doesn’t wish that on anyone. Dante says, the way he heard it, Sonny didn’t just stand by there and do nothing. He cared for Mike. He loved him. He made sure Mike’s last days, weeks, and months on this earth were good ones. He did the same thing with Stone. Sonny couldn’t save him – no one could – but Sonny did them a world of good. Sonny thanks him for saying that, and Dante says, it’s the truth. He can do the same thing for Michael and Willow. Sonny says he’d love to, but Michael won’t let him. Dante says he wouldn’t be so sure about that.

Michael asks if everything is good with Amelia because man, that kid needed a nap, and Brook says, clearly they have the magic touch. Now what do they have to do to get this wedding off the ground? Willow says, almost everything is planned already, but they do need to contact the vendors, and tell them that they’re moving up the date. Sasha says, on it. Send her the list. Willow says she will, thanks Sasha, and hugs her. Michael says he’ll walk her out, and they leave. Brook says, what else? And Willow asks if she’d mind… Brook says, checking on Michael? and Willow says she knows this is hard on him, so if Brook can…

Jordan says, they believe Victor left Port Charles on the Haunted Star, and Curtis asks if that ship doesn’t have a GPS tracker. Jordan says, it did, but they found it tied to a buoy in the harbor, and Portia says, so they could be anywhere. Jordan says, the coastguard is working to locate them via satellite, but so far, no luck, and Portia says, this is a living nightmare. Jordan says, they’re utilizing all resources, she promises. The goal is to bring Trina, Spencer, and whoever else is on that boat home safely. Curtis thanks her, and Jordan says, obviously, she’ll be in touch. She leaves, and Portia says, her baby girl. She must be so scared right now. Curtis says, it’s okay; he’s got her. It’ll be okay. He holds her as she cries.

Anna says she doesn’t think Valentin’s father is motivated by money, so it’s not a ransom, and he says, no. Victor could be using Liesl, Spencer, and the baby as human shields. She says she imagines Victor sees Spencer as the only family he has left, but Liesl… Does he need something from her? Remember, they don’t know what the code on the Ice Princess means; they don’t know if it leads somewhere. Valentin says, Victor has everything he needs to put his plan in motion, and he could strike at any minute. She says, oh God. How do they, or anybody… How do they stop him?

Obrecht says, once again Victor has fallen prey to his bloated sense of self-importance, but Victor says he’s merely stating a fact. Someone has to do what needs to be done. She says, and that is? and Spencer says, issuing in a new era; what does that mean? Victor says he was horrified by the damage we were doing to our planet, and Spencer says, we? Victor says, we, us, people, humanity. Their greed and short-sightedness. Carelessly consuming the resources we need to survive. Left unchecked, there will be nothing left for future generations. Once upon a time, his brother Mikkos shared these views, and they developed a technology to reverse mankind’s mistakes. Obrecht says, a device used to control the climate. Do remind them how that turned out. Victor admits allying with Mikkos was a mistake. He soon showed himself to be a mere opportunist, using their innovation for extortion. His greed was not only disgusting, it was their undoing. Obrecht says, his greed, along with Luke and Laura, and Victor says he won’t make the same mistake twice. There are other ways of accomplishing what he set out to do years ago. Spencer asks, how? and Victor says, he and Mikkos developed another set of tools to save the world; tools they could fall back on if their first plan was a failure. Obrecht says, now there’s an understatement, and Victor says, for security reasons, they placed these tools in bunkers, the location of which only Mikkos knew. He engraved a code on the Ice Princess, which when deciphered would give the coordinates of those locations. Spencer says, the Ice Princess as in the diamond, and Victor says, that is correct. Spencer says he assumes they’re headed for one of those bunkers, and Obrecht asks if that’s why he killed Luke Spencer; so he could get his hands on that diamond? Victor says, sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good, and there’s plenty of people out there who agree with him. While he was working on his plan, he gathered a great number of true believers willing to give their life for the cause. Obrecht says, before this is over, how many unwilling people are going to perish? and Victor says, humanity has all but ensured its own annihilation. The only way to reverse the damage is to take extreme measures, and take them now. Spencer says, define extreme, and Victor says, for forty years after Mikkos’s folly, do they realize the population of the planet has almost doubled? Eight billion people. Think of the strain on their resources and space. There’s no way it can be sustained, but it can be fixed. Obrecht asks, how? and he says, a pathogen stored in one of his brother’s bunkers. Once released, it will reduce the population to manageable levels. Obrecht says, his plan is to release an unknown pathogen into the world? and he says, unknown? He and Mikkos cultivated it to very specific specifications (ha-ha! say that five times real fast). She says, four decades ago. Who knows how that pathogen has morphed in that time. Victor says, the survivors will usher in a new age of man, and Spencer says, to hell with all the innocent people who will die, as long as Victor’s family remains intact. Who appointed him judge, jury, and executioner? Victor says he knows it seems heartless, but to bring about true change involves sacrifice, and Spencer says, sacrifice from everybody else. Victor says, someone has to have the courage to make the hard choices, and Spencer says, there’s no way he’s going to let Victor get away with this. Victor says he’s been working toward this his whole life. Nobody is going to stop him now. Not even Spencer.

Trina Stealth Robinson sneaks around the boat, evading the guards who go into the office.

Portia tells Curtis, Victor has Trina on some ship for God knows what reason. They have no idea where they are. What if Trina is hurt? Curtis says, they’ll find them, but Portia asks, how? Her daughter needs protecting, and she’s not there to protect her. What is she supposed to do? He says he’s seen how Trina handles herself in threatening situations. She’s tough; she’s level-headed. If she’s with Victor and Spencer, she’s finding a way out of it. Portia asks if he really thinks so, and he says he knows so.

Laura sees Jordan, and says, Dante just told her that Trina might be one of Victor’s hostages? and Jordan says, it’s a theory for now, but it’s seeming more and more likely. She just broke the news to Portia and Curtis. Laura says, she must be going out of her mind, and Jordan says, not the most fun conversation she’s ever had. Laura says, they’ve got to find those kids and bring them back home. Her office is at Jordan’s disposal. Don’t hesitate to ask for anything. Jordan thanks her, and says, actually, there is something Laura can do.

Sonny says, last time he checked, Michael didn’t want anything to do with him, unless Dante knows something different. Dante says he thinks in hard times, people’s perspectives change; you reevaluate what’s important. He just thinks Michael’s feelings will change as the situation evolves. Sonny says, when Willow got leukemia, there was a moment when he thought he and Michael were going to fix things, but last time they talked, it got heated. He knows Michael doesn’t want to see him at all. Dante says, maybe not today or tomorrow, maybe not next week, but who knows? What if one day he wakes up needing his father? Sonny isn’t going to turn him away, right? Sonny says, no matter how angry he is with Michael, if Michael reached out, he’d be there, and Dante says, so do that. It will give him something to do. He tells Sonny that he’s got to go, they hug, and Sonny thanks him for the talk.

Brook goes outside, and Michael wipes his eyes. He says, she caught him having a moment, and she tells him to have as many as he needs. He says, they seem to be happening a lot more lately, and she says, but not in front of Willow. He says, she has enough on her plate. He doesn’t want to add to it. She asks if she can say something. If he thinks she’s overstepping… He says he’ll tell her, and she says, maybe it’s time he and Willow shared a plate; shared their feelings about what’s really going on. The truth is, this is happening to both of them. She loves him, and she’s here for whatever he needs. He thanks her and says he loves her too, when his phone rings. Brook says, let her go. She misses the days of rocking Bailey to sleep. She goes inside, and he looks at his phone. We see it’s a call from Sonny. He says, now is not a good time, and Sonny says, it’ll be quick. Michael doesn’t even have to respond. Just let him say his piece. Michael says he doesn’t know. He’s got to go. Sonny says, okay, and Michael says, but… I hear you.

Valentin tells Anna, one thing is certain. We won’t be doing anything. We will stay in bed and we will recover. Anna says, okay, but just because she’s in this bed, it doesn’t render her useless. He says, of course (🍷) she’s not useless. He needs her. If he’s going to bring Victor down, he needs her desperately. But he’s not going to jeopardize her health to do it. Not much scares him… He starts to cry, and says, but when he watched her… She strokes his face, and he says, when he held her in his arms, straight away, that terrified him. He doesn’t want to be without her. She cries too, and says, he won’t be. He says, so she promises him that she won’t do anything to put herself at risk? and she says, okay. She promises. He kisses her hand, and then she kisses his.

Jordan says she knows Laura’s been working to take down Victor ever since he returned to Port Charles. She’s made allusions in the past, and Robert and Felicia confirmed it yesterday. Laura says she has a long history with the Cassadines. They’ve terrorized her and her family countless times, countless ways. No more. Jordan says she’s not blaming Laura, but Laura’s kept her out of the loop for way too long. She wants in. Their best chance of taking down Victor is working together; all of them.

Portia says her mind keeps going to all the scariest places, but Curtis says, she has to try not to let it. She says, they both know the Cassadines, how vindictive and evil and lethal they are, and he says, Jordan has the entire PCPD on their tail. She says, what if they’re not on time? but he says, Trina is coming home, even if he has to bring her home himself.

Trina peeks into the office, but the guards are still hanging around. She says, come on, Spencer. Where’s the diversion?

Victor says, come on, Spencer, think about it. This is the only way he and his brother will have a world to grow up in. Spencer says, assuming they don’t fall victim to the pathogen’s effects, and he says, that is where the lovely Dr. Obrecht comes in. Her expertise will assure his heirs are properly inoculated. He puts his hands on Obrecht’s shoulders, and she says, thus ensuring his precious legacy. If he thinks she’s going to help him, he’s truly lost his verstand (mind). He says he does love it when she talks German, but if she doesn’t comply with his wishes, he guarantees the consequences will be dire. Spencer jumps up, gets Obrecht in a headlock, pulling her from her chair, and holds a knife to her throat.

So… Victor is a secret unhinged environmentalist?

Tomorrow, Brook tells someone that she has a critical mission for them, and they have to accept it; Sam asks why Alexis can’t just let this go; Curtis tells Jordan that they won’t see him coming; Portia says, help is on the way; and Spencer tells Victor, no Obrecht, no plan.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Walking Dead

The people Carlson kicked off the roof are beginning to reanimate. Carlson radios Lance, who asks the status. Carlson says, the location is secured, and Lance breathes a sigh of relief. The shipment? Carlson says they’re searching floor by floor; the residents have been cooperative. Lance is surprised, saying, the people have regressed so far is like getting mad at a rat who can’t tell right from wrong. Carlson tells him that a small taste of law and order made them remember. A trooper tells Carlson, we have two down be the east exit, and Carlson runs inside.

Maggie hears screaming, and sneaks down the hall, followed by Aaron, Lydia and Elijah. They hear gunfire, and slip quietly toward it.

Daryl meets Carol on his way to work, and says he’d been looking for her. She tells him that she’s been doing more of her side thing, and he asks if she’s heard anything about home. She says, not exactly… and trooper boss lady asks if Daryl is going to be joining them. He asks if Carol wants to have lunch, and she says, noon at the diner? He says, it’s a date, and goes in. Inside, the troopers are given their assignments, and Rosita and Daryl are paired for Sector D. They leaves with troopers Alves and Castle, and pass where Sabastian is hanging out with his friends. Sebastian brags that people have problems when they panic, but when he’s around the rotters, his heartrate goes down. He says, Daryl has seen how he handles himself, and Daryl says, good stuff, applauding, but Sebastian isn’t really sure how to respond. They go outside, and Alves says, a swarm was spotted by the north perimeter. Daryl wonders why the plans changed, and Alves suggests they’re being tested on what they can do outside the walls. He tells them that their sectors are covered, and says, let’s go. Daryl and Rosita go with him.

Maggie and the others go into an apartment. They hear shooting and yelling, and Maggie suddenly has a gun to her head. Annie tells her, one more step, and you die. Drop your weapons. Elijah then comes up behind Annie, and holds a gun to her head, and Lydia says, you first. Maggie says, they’re here to help, and Negan joins them. He pats Elijah on the shoulder, and says, let’s everybody put our sh*t back in our pants and zip up. He tells Lydia, hey kiddo, and she asks what he’s doing here. He stands next to Annie, and says, we live here. Aaron says, they have Gabriel, but Negan says, they don’t. He tells them, come on, and they follow him. He goes to a closet, and moves the clothes aside. There’s an opening, and he goes through, explaining that Ian walled up the doors in some of the apartments. Gabriel is there with some others from the building, and he hugs Maggie. Maggie asks if the people there hijacked the convoy, but Annie says, no. Aaron asks if she’s sure, and she says she’s sick of people asking. Negan says, him too, why doesn’t Aaron just come out and call her a liar? Aaron says, their boss has a wall of skulls, and he’s calling bullsh*t. If they didn’t do it, who did? Maggie says, it doesn’t matter. They have to get these people out of here. They hear a trooper saying they’ll sweep each floor and see who’s left. Annie says, they’re not leaving their people; they leave together. They pair up, and Negan tells Annie to go with Maggie.

Rosita and Daryl walk through the woods with the troopers, and Rosita asks, how much longer? Alves says, not long, and they get to a hill overlooking a valley where there are houses. He says, there it is, and Daryl asks, where’s everybody else? Alves says, there is no one else, and Rosita says, they expect only four of them to take all the zombies out? Sebastian appears, and says, no, she and Daryl are going to go through them. He and Cooper grew up together. Cooper lived down in the valley, and his dad was a bank president. He was also a prepper, and his office had a panic room where he kept drugs and cash – lots of it. Sebastian needs them to get it for him. Rosita says, this is a joke, right? but Sebastian says, no. His bitch mother cut off his line of credit, so he has to think of creative ways to support his lifestyle. The troopers can’t shoot their guns without the ammo being tracked. Cooper gave him the code… Daryl says, they’re not doing it, but Sebastian says, they’ll slime themselves up with guts, walk through the swarm, and get his cash. Daryl says, or what? and he and Rosita start to walk away. Sebastian asks how their kids are doing, and Daryl grabs him, putting a knife to his throat. Alves tells Daryl, drop it, or they’re both dead, but Rosita has drawn her gun, and says, not before she blows junior’s head off. Daryl says, if Sebastian threatens their kids again, he’ll gut him. Sebastian acts like it was the furthest thing from his mind, and tells Daryl that he was just saying he could make their lives easier. Alves says, or more difficult, and Rosita says, they do this and that’s it? Sebastian says, totally, and Daryl lets him go, taking the code from his hand.

Daryl and Rosita walk through the zombies, who come up to their faces, snarling. We see it from their perspective through their helmets, and it’s pretty creepy.

They go inside, Daryl shining a flashlight around. They see the keypad, and Rosita says they’ll need power for the lock. Two zombies toddle out, and she stabs both of them in the head. She says, it can’t be more than a few days since they turned. They hear a live human banging on the other side of a door, and a woman says, hey. She tells them that she was with another group, and Rosita says, they’re with the Commonwealth army. She says, she’s sorry. The money is in here, but she’s the only one left. Daryl says, Sebastian has done this before, and the woman begs them not to leave her. Rosita asks what she did, and she says she was in debt, and one day man showed up, saying he could get her out of it. She had two kids… She has two kids. Rosita asks how many people were sent in her group, and she says, twelve. Only three made it inside. They got the generator on, but then the two guys turned on each other. She ran in, and the door locked. She’s been trapped in there since. Rosita asks her name, and she says, April. Rosita introduces herself.

Negan says, they’ll make this work, okay? Lydia says, he left without saying a word, and he says, he left because he gave a sh*t. He left because it’s what everyone needed. Aaron asks how he met these people, and… What is Anna to him? He shows Aaron a wedding ring, and says, crazy, right? Aaron says, Negan being here fits, and Gabriel insists the Commonwealth is different, but Lydia says, she’d hoped it was, but it isn’t. They just want to swallow up communities. They’re like the Whisperers; they just wear different masks. Annie radios, and tells Negan that the troopers are on the fifth floor, but they’re going to spread out. He asks if Maggie is still with her, and she tells him to stop worrying. She’ll see him soon. Negan looks outside, and says, sh*t.

A trooper tells Herschel to sit and stay. He gets on the radio and tells the sarge that he found a kid hiding in a truck. Negan clocks him before he can say anymore; then kills him.

Annie eats some ginger, and tells Maggie, she’s twelve weeks, give or take, and yeah it’s his. Not that he’d want her telling Maggie. Negan radios Annie, and says they found Maggie’s son. Maggie grabs the radio, and says, what? Negan says, they had a stowaway they didn’t know about. Maggie says she’s coming, but he tells her, stay with Annie. Her son is safe; stay focused. Maggie says, if anything happens to him… and Negan says, it will have to happen to me first. They hear more gunfire, and Annie tells Maggie, he’s in good hands. Maggie says, he’s in the hands of the man who killed his father. They hear a trooper say, he’s outside five; it’s clear. Annie says she knows who he is and he what did. He told her. Maggie says, and she’s still with him? and Annie says, none of them have clean hands. She’s seen what people do to survive. Sometimes it’s been done to her, and sometimes she did it to them. She’s not proud of it; she can just try to be better. Like him. Maggie says, he doesn’t get to forget, and Annie says, he hasn’t. What matters to her is who he is now, someone who will do what he can to protect her boy.

Herschel says, his mom told him to stay away from Negan, and Negan says, his mom’s a smart lady. Herschel asks why his mom doesn’t like Negan, and Negan says, because of something that happened a long time ago. Herschel says, something bad? and Negan says, yeah. Herschel asks if he’s a bad man, and Negan says, he was. I want to cry, this scene is so touching. Negan says, look, kid, and Heschel picks up a gun. He says his mom told him that a bad man killed his dad. It was him, wasn’t it? Negan says, yeah, and crouches down so he’s on Herschel’s level. He says, what he took away from Herschel and his mom, there’s nothing he can say or do to make that better. He knows Herschel wants to pull the trigger, and he doesn’t blame Herschel, but if he does – everyone gathers, watching from the other room – the bad people will know where they’re hiding. Maybe he deserves to die for what he did to Herschel’s family, but these people here don’t. Herschel looks at them, and lowers the gun. Lydia approaches, and takes it from him, and he runs to them.

Daryl tries to get the generator going, and flips switches like he knows what he’s doing. He does something with pliers, and sparks shoot out. The lights blink on and off, and zombies come at Daryl. They keep coming, and he keeps fighting them. Finally, he dispatches the last one, and goes back to work. The lights come on.

Rosita asks if April is still with them, and puts in the code. The door opens, and April hugs Rosita, thanking her. Daryl joins them, and April shows him the safe. He uses a crowbar to open it, and an alarm goes off. Rosita pushes buttons, but it only gets louder. April starts to freak out, saying, the zombies are going to be drawn to the house. Rosita pulls the alarm off the wall, but it’s still attached by a wire, and April yells for her to hurry. Rosita finally smashes it, and it stops. Daryl pulls out the safe, and he and Rosita stuff money into a bag. April tells them, they’re coming; hurry. They block door with a dresser, and wait.

Daryl says, they’ll go out how they came in; no sudden moves. They put zombie guts on April, and there’s banging and growling outside for a while. When it settles down, they move the dresser back, and open the door. Mercer is there, and asks if he was going to let them in. Daryl asks how he knew they were there, and Carly walks in. She says, when Daryl didn’t show for lunch, she found out where he was. Mercer asks if Daryl is looting houses now, and Rosita says, Sebastian threatened their kids. April tells Mercer that she was promised a cut of the money, but she’s the only one left. The lights blink, and Mercer asks Carol how many rounds she has. She says, maybe ten, and he says, there are more walkers than that. Daryl says, gut up.

They go out among the dead, moving slowly. April’s eyes are like saucers, and I know that one is going to freak for sure. Mercer keeps his gun drawn, and sure enough, one gets hooked on the uniform April is wearing. She panics, and stabs it. Apparently this is a dead (no pun intended) giveaway, and the zombies grab at her. There’s slicing and dicing and shooting, and Mercer is a master with the butt of his gun. All is quiet, but Rosita sees it’s too late for April, and stabs her in the forehead. Mercer opens the door to the outside.

Maggie and Annie hear gunfire at the end of the hall, and a man saying, no, please. The man is shot, and Carlson says, these people… He tells his soldiers, if they refuse to give you something useful, pop them in the in head and move on. They find the guns in the next hour or they burn the place to the ground. Maggie and Annie come out of an apartment, and Maggie radios Gabriel and Aaron. She asks if Elijah is with them, and Aaron says he is. She says she has a plan.

Troopers kick in the door to the apartment with the secret exit, and throw stuff around. A trooper goes to the closet, but the clothes have been pushed back together again. Carlson says, anything? and he says, nothing. They leave, but Carlson lingers. Negan and the others wait behind the opening. Carlson picks up a whiskey bottle, and examines it. He sees something on the floor, and whistles for his men. Negan is a couple of feet away, gun drawn, and Carlson is about to slide the clothing over, when he hears something. He says, it’s that goddam priest again, and he and his soldiers go to the roof. They find Aaron and Gabriel, and Aaron throws his gun down. Carlson slams the roof door shut, and says he’s had enough of this sh*t. What were they thinking, turning on him and the Commonwealth? For what? A tenement warlord and his followers? He thought they were smarter than that. The others come out to the roof, and Carlson calls for back-up, but his soldiers have their hands full with Elijah and his ninja moves. Carlson laughs, and says, the wisdom to know the difference, right? Things got out of hand, and they need to take a breath. Maggie and Annie join them, and Carlson says, they need to talk things… Daryl shoots him off of the roof edge, and he falls down the to the people he’s pushed off, who are now zombies. Aaron and Gabriel look down and watch, as the zombies crawl over Carlson, and have a feast. I love a fitting end.

Mercer, Carol, and Daryl go back up the hill, where Alves and Castle are waiting. Mercer says, they could have used some help, but Alves says they don’t answer to Mercer. Did they get the money? Mercer gives it to him, and Carol asks, how many others were sent to get it? Alves says, thirty or forty, he’s not sure, and in a surprise move, Mercer shoots Alves and Castle. Daryl looks at him like, respect, and I laaaugh. Mercer says, they’ll have to pay Sebastian. If they don’t, Sebastian will come after them, and it’s a fight they’re not going to win. He picks up the bags, and says he’ll carry them through the gate. They won’t search him.

Daryl, Rosita, and Mercer sit at a table, and Sebastian comes in. He says, there they are. So? Daryl points to the bag, and Sebastian practically skips over to the table. He looks inside, and he dances in a circle, and says, well done. Where are…? Mercer says, Alves and Castle didn’t make it. Sebastian takes out a packet of bills, and puts it on the table, telling Daryl, your cut. Congratulations. They did it. He’s glad they’re friends again. He smiles and leaves. Daryl looks at Mercer.

Lance radios Open Range (i.e. Carlson), but gets nothing but static. He sits at his desk, looking like he has a headache. There’s a knock at the door, and Carol comes in. He says, it’s late, and asks where she’s been. She says, helping friends out of a jam. They were on a mission for the governor’s son. He’s been finding desperate people, and sending them through swarms to get to a stash of cash. Most didn’t make it out. Lance says, he sent her friends? and she says, yeah. He asks if they made it back, and she says, barely. He says, good. Did they get the money? She says they did, and he says, finally, and sighs. Carol asks why the other people were sent; what did they do? He says, they put themselves in bad situations, either because of stupid choices or their unwillingness to play by the rules. He tried to throw them a lifeline. This place works because everyone plays their part. If they can’t or won’t, it hurts everyone. That’s when the system breaks down, and we can’t let that happen. He asks if Carol knows what he’s saying, and she says, if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. He says he knew she’d get it, and she says she’ll let him get back to work. He says, it’s nice to be able to talk to someone who sees the big picture; not many can. She smiles, and leaves, looking like Jamie Lee Curtis, Lance picks up the radio again.

Negan looks at Herschel, and walks over to him. He says, he and Herschel have unfinished business, don’t they? Tell you what. Herschel goes back with his mom, and helps rebuild their home. When he’s grown up a bit, come find him, and Negan promises they’ll settle it. Another great scene between these two. Negan walks off, and Maggie asks Herschel what Negan said to him, but Herschel stays silent. Maggie asks what Aaron and Gabriel are going do. They can’t go back to the Commonwealth. Aaron says, Lance is going to want to know what happened, and Gabriel says, the more immediate need is the people here. It’s only a matter of time. He wonders, if Ian didn’t steal the weapons, who did?

Two weeks ago. We see the dead troopers next to the arms shipment. One is still alive, crawling down the road, leaving a trail of blood. She yells, please, no, but a woman reaches from behind, pulling the trooper’s head up, and slitting her throat. Blood gushes out. We see the murderer is Leah.

Next time, Lance wonders if the warlords weren’t strangers to Aaron and Gabriel; Max says they can change this place; and Daryl asks Maggie to trust him. Eugene wants max to steal files

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly goes through a box of Mike’s belongings, and asks Sonny if some booklets count as sports memorabilia. He says, it counts as old junk; racing forms and programs. She thinks they should have Diane send a clerk over to catalog it. It might not have monetary value, but Mike’s stuff is valuable to him, and he doesn’t want to throw it out. Sonny isn’t so sure, and Carly looks through some pictures. She takes out one of Sonny as a young boy.

On the phone, Brando says, of course (🍷) he’s grateful, but wants to know what it’s going to cost him. Cyrus says, just a few moments of his time. He wants to meet. Tonight.

Peter tells Jackie that he had his doubts when Lulu wanted to bring her in. She says she’s fond of Port Charles, and he says he knows she cut her teeth at The Herald. She says, for a few years in the 80s, she investigated her sister’s abduction. The trail led her there. He says, the city where she made her name. He asks how Port Charles has changed for her, and she says, it’s certainly bigger… shinier, faster. But none of that changes its essential character. At its heart, it’s the Port Charles she left behind.

Maxie tells Robert, she hopes he didn’t say something to upset Mac. He asks why he’d do that, and she says he can’t seem to help himself sometimes. Anything with Peter goes back to Faison with him. He says, excuse him for being overprotective, and she says she doesn’t need him to protect her from Peter. He isn’t like his father any more than she’s like hers.

Anna asks Finn to give her the basics on epigenetics. He says he loves when she talks sexy, and she says she’s being serious. From her research she sees that epigenetics involve changes that don’t have to do with the DNA sequence. He says some stuff I don’t understand and she says, meaning one identical twin could have a trait that their child inherits, a trait not necessarily present in the other twin. He asks what she’s thinking, and she says, this is how she can prove whether or not she’s Peter’s mother.

Someone looks around The Floating Rib from the back hallway. Dante comes out into the alley, and says, there are a lot of people in there. Peter will have to wait.

On the phone, Olivia says Ned doesn’t have to call her back, but she wants to talk to him when he gets home. She ran into Brook at the reception, and got quite an earful. She hangs up, and says he has no idea how lucky he is to actually have his baby there at home.

Brook stomps over to Valentin and says he played her. She let him use her against her own family. Chase doesn’t think the conversation will do anyone any good, but she says the only good thing about being fired in front of God and everyone else is, now she can tell Valentin what she really thinks. Valentin says, please do, and she says she should have warned her father that he was after ELQ. Instead, she let him buy her silence. Now her life is a dumpster fire. That’s what she gets for trusting him. He says from his perspective, the only person she has to blame for her wreck of a life is herself. Chase suggests they sit down, and starts to steer Brook away, and Valentin says he doesn’t want her to think he’s unsympathetic to her current situation. If she’d just told him that her voice hadn’t healed, he could have gone to Lucy and made arrangements. Instead, she did whatever the hell this just was, and embarrassed the entire company. She laughs, and says, please. As if Lucy’s never made a public spectacle of herself and he’s never told a lie. He says he didn’t lie to the buyer and get caught. He understands her. she wants to fix everything on her own, so she doesn’t have to admit when something is broken. It worked to his advantage when he made a play for ELQ, but today, it’s the very thing that sunk her.

Anna tells Finn about Maxie and Peter’s genetic screening appointment. She says, there was nothing concerning, but Peter had a marker for rheumatoid arthritis. She knows she doesn’t have it since she got a full genetic workup when she was diagnosed with PV. He says, that means Peter inherited the gene from Faison or… She says, her sister. If Alex has the marker, that means Peter is her son, not Anna’s.

Peter says he can imagine Jackie had some nostalgia for the place she got her start, but she says she has other irons in the fire. She has family of her own there, and she’s interested in the city whether they work together or not. He asks if exposing a philanthropist as a major drug trafficker isn’t high on her to-do list, and she says, if Cyrus is dirty, he’s done an incredible job of covering his tracks. Any investigation would be risky, labor intensive, and costly. He says he’s willing to pay. She and the story are worth it. She says the money isn’t what’s holding her back. It’s him.

Maxie tells Robert, her dad was addicted to adventure. He wasn’t cut out for parenthood, and cut out on his family, but he’s not in the same universe as Faison. Robert says, agreed, and she says she was making a point. Her father is an absentee parent. She’s not. Faison was an evil lunatic, but Peter isn’t. Robert needs to stop worrying. He says, worrying about the people we love comes naturally. It’s what makes them human. She asks, you know what else makes them human? Sharing in joy with others.

Maxie sees Spinelli talking to Brando and squeals that he’s there. Spinelli says, and by fortuitous coincidence, she’s present also. Brando says they know each other? and Maxie says they have a child together; Georgie. Who’s going to be so excited that Spinelli is there. Brando says he’s going to take off, and congratulates Maxie again. Spinelli says, congratulations are in order? He asks if it’s something Georgie will like, and Maxie says, she’ll be over the moon, and not just because she gets to wear a special dress for the occasion. He says he can only surmise she and Peter are getting married.

Carly looks through the photos, and asks if Sonny remembers them. He says he recognizes the old building, but that’s about it. She says he was so young, it’s not surprising he doesn’t remember. He says, objectively, she’s right, but he can’t help thinking about what happened to his dad. When did he know he had a problem? Carly says, that’s a huge leap, going from something he doesn’t remember when he was six, to thinking he has Alzheimer’s, and he says, it’s a question he’s been asking himself since his dad was diagnosed. Is it going to happen to him?

Brando meets Cyrus, and thanks him for getting the cops off his back. He asks how Cyrus managed it, and Cyrus says, he has a voice at the PCPD. Having been unjustly incarcerated himself, he has an affinity for others who might be denied due process. Brando asks, why use that voice for him? and Cyrus says, partly to make amends for Brando landing in the hospital. Brando says, so Cyrus got the guys who beat him up sent away, and got the cops to stop investigating him for the motorcycle crash. That’s a lot of good will on Cyrus’s part. Cyrus says, someone had to step up for him. It was clear Sonny wouldn’t.

Sonny tells Carly, the last few years, he’s been focusing on his dad, but he has been wondering if the Alzheimer’s was passed on to him. She says she’s done some research, and a person with a parent or sibling with Alzheimer’s does have a higher likelihood of developing it, but there are many other factors. He says maybe he should start figuring out the odds; there are tests. She says, they’re not for everyone, but he says, they are an option for people with a family member who has Alzheimer’s.

Spinelli tells Maxie, traditionally, it’s not unusual for someone expecting a baby to wed, but he thought she might take a less conventional route. She says she thought he might step up and be happy for her, but clearly, that’s not what’s going to happen. He says he always wishes for her happiness, but she says, not one more word. She’s the one whose engagement party was just rained on, and now it’s her turn to talk.

Jackie tells Peter, the best publishers she’s worked with stay out of the limelight. He has a bad habit of becoming the story. His father, his kidnapping, his recent arrest… He says he was cleared on all charges, and she says he doesn’t have to sell her on Port Charles or The Invader, but he does have to sell her on himself, so make his pitch. Why should she take a job with him given his reputation? He says, it’s tempting, but he’s not going to pitch her. It’s clear she’s already been given the hard sell by Robert Scorpio.

Anna says, there are cases where one twin acquired a gene, no? and Finn says, there are, but it’s more likely Peter acquired the gene from Faison. She says, then the next step is to find out if Faison had the marker for rheumatoid arthritis. He says, or she could tell Peter the truth. Family secrets can be devastating and they always come out . He thinks Peter should hear it from her. She asks if he’d like to elaborate on why he can’t patch things up with his stepfather, even for Chase.

Valentin says he and Brook aren’t so different. The black sheep of powerful families. Chase says, okay, that’s enough, and Brook says she’s nothing like Valentin. Nothing. He says, methinks the lady doth protest too much, and Chase says, they’ve both said what they had to say. He’s calling this. He tries to get Brook to go, but she says she’s not done. She might be selfish at times, but Valentin is worse. He’s the type of selfish person who believes he’s selfless, and that the things he does for himself are motivated by his love and devotion to others. At least she owns who she is. He smiles, and she asks if something is funny. He says, no. He thinks it’s remarkable that, after everything she’s gone through, she still ahs that spark. He likes it.

Jackie says she never said anything about Robert, and Peter says she didn’t have to. His vendetta and paranoia are all over the conversation. It’s no secret they have a history, and clearly (WOTD) Robert’s opinion matters to her. She says, why shouldn’t it? He might have an attitude, but he’s the closest thing she’s witnessed to an honest to God hero. He says, as opposed to his father. An irredeemable villain who tainted him by association. She asks what good her story would do if it was printed by a publisher her readers didn’t trust. She needs to trust him. He says, trust isn’t won overnight. His numbers are spiking at a time when people are saying print is dead. If that isn’t good enough, he suggests she take a leap of faith

Maxie tells Spinelli, she and Peter are having a child together. She loves him, and asked him to marry her, and he accepted her proposal. It’s a done deal. If she had any doubts, she wouldn’t be marrying him. Can’t that be enough? He doesn’t say anything, and she says, all right then. She won’t ask him to be happy for her. She won’t invite him to the wedding He doesn’t even have to get them a gift, but he does have to be fair to their daughter. That means keeping his opinion about Peter to himself. Do not influence Georgie’s opinion of him. if Spinelli can’t play by her rules, she’ll no longer consider him her friend. She walks away, and walks past Robert at the bar.

Robert goes over to Spinelli, and Spinelli says he guesses Maxie convinced Robert to drop their investigation of Peter.

Brando says he’s not going to talk to Cyrus about Sonny, and Cyrus says, then let’s talk about the job he’s offering. As a driver, among other things. Brando asks, what other things? and Cyrus says Brando is an ex-marine, a combat vet. He could use Brando on his team. Brando is sure it doesn’t hurt that he’s close to Sonny, and Cyrus says he thought Brando didn’t want to talk about Sonny. (D’oh!) Brando say,s Sonny is his cousin and has done a lot for him. It would be wrong of him to work for Cyrus.

Carly says Sonny spent more time with Mike than anyone. He’s just in the beginning stages of grief. Give himself some time before he takes a step like being tested for Alzheimer’s. He says, it’s not just his future at stake. If he knows his status, then Kristina, Donna, and Avery can decide later if they want to get tested. Even Dante. She says, even if he found out Dante was at risk, what good would it do? Dante doesn’t want to talk to anyone in the family. He says, that’s not true anymore.

The doorbell rings, and Olivia answers it. Dante says he’s come back. She throws her arms around him, and hugs him.

Jackie says, Peter wants her to take a leap of faith on him, and he says, he is on her. He’s heard she can be demanding. She says, exacting, and he says, aggressive. She says, persistent, and he says, difficult. She says, the D word. She knows what people say about her. If she was a man, they’d say she was a go-getter. He says, good assessment, but off point. He’s willing to take a risk in spite of her reputation. Why can’t she do the same with him? She says, there would be some conditions. She only works with Lulu, and they only report to him. No editors or middlemen in between. He says, done, and she says, she and Lulu get final copy approval. He says, with his input, but she says, no. Final editorial approval. He says he’s sure they can work something out, and she says, the only thing left to do is set up her expense account. She’s sure he doesn’t mind her writing the drinks off. He says, by all means, and she says, she’s sure this is the start of a beautiful working relationship. He says, God save them both, and excuses himself.

Peter goes over to where Maxie is sitting, and says he takes it Spinelli isn’t thrilled with their engagement. She says, he thinks it’s a disaster. In all fairness, he didn’t use the word disaster, but it was written all over his face. She can’t take it anymore, and gave him an ultimatum. She said he couldn’t influence Georgie’s opinion of Peter, or make anymore ridiculous paranoid accusations. If he does, their friendship is over. She wanted to take it back the second she said it, but she can’t.

Spinelli tells Robert they can’t drop the investigation. Peter has killed in the past, and may very well kill again. Robert asks, what happens if he says that to Maxie? and Spinelli says, she’ll end their friendship and cling more tightly to Peter. Robert says Spinelli has to change his tactics. He has to convince Maxie that she can trust him again. Spinelli asks, how? and Robert says, lie to her.

Valentin goes to Anna’s house, and she tells him they have to make it brief. He says her fiancé doesn’t approve of him, and she says, he’s heard one too many allegations about Valentin’s unsavory past. Most of which are true. He suggests Finn doesn’t like the fact he knows Anna better, and always will. She asks why he’s there, and he says they need to decide how they’re handling her sister. Anna says, maybe they don’t. Since the initial call, she hasn’t tried to make contact. He says, direct contact. There was an attempted ambush in Berlin. She says, according to him. He says he thought he was there because she requested him, but… he starts to leave, and she says she’s sorry. she’s not implying otherwise. It’s just hard to accept that her sister has gone from sabotaging her career to wanting her dead. Valentin has a suggestion. Kill her before she kills Anna. Anna says Alex is her sister. She can’t just… kill her. He says, if she’s playing Alex’s game, it’s the surest way to die, and it looks to him like she is. They’ve lost valuable weeks since the ambush. It gives Alex the advantage of time and momentum. They need to act. If she’s not going to, he will. She asks, why the urgency? and he says if Alex knows he’s involved, then she’s a present danger. Not just to him, but his daughter. He’s not going to let anything happen to Charlotte. Anna seriously doubts Alex gave Valentin or his daughter a second thought. This is about Peter. He says it sounds like she knows something, and she says she does. He says, how about telling him, since she obviously knows more than he does? What is Alex’s fixation with Peter? Anna says, she might be his mother.

Brando tells Cyrus that he’s not betraying Sonny, and Cyrus says, nor should he. He and Sonny called a truce. By taking a job with him, Brando would be a liaison of sorts. Someone to keep the lines of communication open. Brando doesn’t think Sonny would agree with that perspective, and Cyrus says, Sonny’s a practical man. He has no doubt sonny would approve of any arrangement that keeps the peace. Come work for him. Everyone benefits.

Olivia lets Dante in, and says he feels good. Olivia says, the beard is a little scraggly. He does look scraggly, but I like it. He says he wanted to see her first before shaving, and she guesses she raised him right. She’s overcome, and tells him that she doesn’t know what to say. Is he really there? Is he there for good? He says, he’s home, and it’s all because of her.

Carly says, Dante’s home for good? and Sonny says, he’s healing. She says, he’s healthy enough to come home, and Sonny says, they gave him everything he needs to stay healthy. She says, Dante can be tested, and the girls, but the right now, the only opinion that matters is Sonny’s. He says, what if he just wants to do it? and she says, what if he wants to do it, thinking if he has the courage to do it, he’ll get the results he wants? She understands that kind of magical thinking. If I’m brave enough to face the worst, maybe the worst won’t happen. But with Alzheimer’s, it’s hard to know for certain. The tests are narrow in scope and not predictive. He asks what she became a medical professional, and she says she’s not a doctor, but she’s his wife. She doesn’t want him to torture himself about something if he doesn’t have to.

Chase and Brook go back to the bar. He asks if she’s given any more thought to moving back home, but she says she doesn’t think there’s enough room for her and her family. Underneath the bickering, there is a lot of love, but there’s also judgement. She’ll never be equal to Michael, Dillon, or her father, if she doesn’t stand on her own two feet. Even then, they’ll have to come to her with an apology. He says he’s sorry to hear that, because he has more bad news.

Valentin asks what Anna means, Alex is Peter’s mother? and she says, might be. Does he remember the night he got her to admit she had Faison’s baby? He says, of course (🍷) he remembers that night. He watched her unraveling in his living room. Please tell him it was Alex. She says she can’t be certain. He knows she was subjected to memory transfer. Something from Alex was imprinted in her, and this might be it. He says, thank God. This means he didn’t follow her that night. She didn’t sleep with Faison, and he didn’t deliver her baby to Faison. He didn’t betray her. She tells him, stop it. Everything he did was despicable, whether it was to her or Alex. He says, of course (🍷) it was Alex. He thinks he always knew it. She says he knows more than she does, because it’s just a theory. She thinks she might be able to prove it by specific genes, and he says, run all the tests she wants to, but he knows it was Alex; they both know. She would never do the things Alex did. She says, Peter has to believe she’s his mother, and Valentin says, okay. That’s why she’s afraid of Alex. It’s not what Alex will do to her, but to Peter. She’ll tell him the truth. Anna says she doesn’t want him involved with this anymore. It’s her problem, and she’ll handle it now. He asks how? when Finn comes in. Finn says he didn’t realize they had guests, and Valentin says he just dropped by for a quick word with Finn’s fiancé. Finn says, if this is about the planned ambush, he already knows.

Spinelli says, and after he convinces Maxie that he approves of her marriage to that miscreant? Robert says, stay close. She’ll need someone to lean on when the bottom drops out of everything, and it’s going to, because he’s going to make it. Spinelli says, and Robert is going to continue with the investigation? Robert says, Peter is guilty, and he intends to prove it.

Peter says he’s sorry Maxie’s feelings were hurt, and she says, as much as she cares about Spinelli – and she always will – if she has to choose, she chooses him. Spinelli has to see, this time he has to compromise. Spinelli approaches the table, and asks if he could have a moment. He needs to apologize to them both. He never offered his congratulations on their engagement, but offers it now with a full heart. He wishes them every happiness. Peter thanks him, and Maxie says it was beautiful, but what made him change his mind?

Dante says, Olivia saved him. It wasn’t until he heard her that he realized he had to do everything in his power to get home. She needs him; his family needs him. Olivia says she’s his mother, and she’ll always need him, but she didn’t save him. He saved himself. She just let him know he always has a place to live, no matter what. He says he was worried she’d given up on him, and she says she tried, but she knew in her heart that she’d see him again. She has to call Sonny.

Sonny tells Carly, when they buried his dad next to Morgan, he was thinking that Morgan inherited being bi-polar from him, so maybe he inherited Alzheimer’s from his dad. If he did, they’ll deal with it. Carly says, there’s no medication you can take to prevent it. Live a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, which he does, and eat well, which he does. She guesses he could drink less, and he says, maybe he can box more and drink the same. She laughs, and says she thinks one of the greatest things about being a human being is that you don’t know how life will turn out. They have no idea what’s going to happen next. If it were her choice, she wouldn’t want to know, but it’s not her choice; it’s his. He says, something to think about, but not anytime soon. She says, it’s a decision he shouldn’t rush. If he ends up slipping like his dad at some point, promise she’ll tell him. She says she will, and she’ll be by his side the entire time, the way he was with his dad. Always.

Valentin says Finn knows more about the situation than he does, so tell him, is she setting a trap for Alex or not? Anna says, there’s been a change in plans. She’ll deal with her sister herself in her own way. He says he respects her more than she’ll ever know. That’s why it pains him to see her indulge in denial. Her sister has unfinished business with her, and she will be visiting Port Charles. It will either be on her terms or Anna’s.

Chase tells Brook that he needs his couch back; his whole apartment really. She says, but he told her… He says, she could stay until she got back on her feet. She needs to start doing that. She says she just lost her job, and he says he believes in her. He believes she’ll stand on her own, but that doesn’t mean she can’t carve out a place for her family. The longer she lets this fester, the more it will take on a life of its own.

Valentin leaves, and Finn asks if Anna changed her mind. She says she’s changing tactics, and needs his help. She won’t throw Peter’s whole life into question until she’s exhausted every option. He says, what options? Alex is a fugitive, and Faison is dead. She says, dead, yes, but not gone.

Robert asks if Jackie had a nice time cozying up to Peter. She says she’s decided to work with Peter, but not with him. Like she told him, if he wants to dig up dirt on Peter, do it on his own time. He says he intends to, but when she finds something – and she will – she’ll know how important it is that they work together. She’s met his niece, and knows what’s at stake.

Spinelli says, Maxie warned him that his continued actions were ruining their friendship. He had to step back and reassess his priorities. They’re Georgie’s parents, and continue to raise her in mutual admiration and regard. He hopes to regain her trust, and hopes to get Peter’s. Peter says, it’s over; let’s put it behind us. Spinelli says, that’s very gracious, and Peter says it’s all he can do. All he’s ever wanted is to prove himself. Spinelli says he’s done that by making Maxie happy. Maxie asks if that means Spinelli is coming to their wedding and he says she couldn’t keep him away.

Dante tells Olivia, he tried to make Mike’s funeral, but he missed it. Sonny was still there, saying goodbye. She says she saw Sonny afterward, but he didn’t say anything. Dante tells her, he asked Sonny not to. He wanted to see Lulu and the kids first; he didn’t want them to hear it from anyone else. He went to Lulu’s house, and there was someone else there. She says, Dustin, and he says, seems like they’re pretty serious. She says, Dustin doesn’t hold a candle to him, and he thanks her, but says he doesn’t think her opinion is going to make a bias. She says, this can wait until morning, because he’s there. He’s staying there, in this house. They have 20 million guest rooms, and even if they didn’t… He doesn’t know how long she’s waited for this moment. Her baby is home. She hugs him, and says, everything will be okay.

Carly says Sonny was so cute, and he agrees, pointing out his dimples. She bets he was as modest then as he is now, and he says, just about. The doorbell rings, and Sonny goes to get it. It’s Brando, and Sonny asks if he has an update. Brando says he has some news, but sees Carly, and stops talking. Sonny says there are no secrets between them, and Brando says he just met with Cyrus. Cyrus wants to recruit him. Sonny says, good.

Tomorrow, Ava is starting to believe Nikolas cares for her, Nikolas tells someone to take it now or the deal is off, and Sonny tells Julian that he doesn’t have the luxury of turning him down.

🍹 Tonight’s Bravo offering was the season 4 finale of Southern Charm, with Craig, Shep, and the two Toms from Vanderpump Rules watching virtually. Craig and Shep were together; ditto the Toms. The first thing that stood out was how much Tom Sandoval is looking like Freddy Mercury with blond highlights. These guys were way chattier than anyone has been so far, and there was a lot of discussion between boxes. Part of the episode was when the cast went to Key West, and also included a party hosted by JD (bleh). Cameran gave a lecture to a more than hungover Craig, and Shep came by, still keeping the party going. When Shep focused heavily on a sandpiper, Schwartz said, when you’re drunk and hungover like that, there’s a raw appreciation of nature. Ugh. I don’t think I’ll be testing that theory, since just watching Shep brought me back to the couple of times I’ve continued drinking into the next day, and I actually felt a little sick, even though it was many years ago. Sandoval did a lot of fashion critiquing, called out household hints, and had a lot to say about how he would have handled various situations. The Toms also pumped Craig and Shep, who reminded me of frat boys, for information on other cast members. The episode included some high tension between Craig and Naomie, who were seeing each other at the time, and Craig not-so-humble bragged about how he had passed the bar, and was now a lawyer, as it had been a bone of contention with Naomie. While watching Craig tell Naomie how he was done with her criticism, Shep said it was the most boring scene he’d ever seen. He made me laugh, but he also may have been right. When it was over, Craig suggested they watch Vanderpump Rules with the Toms. Sandoval was all for it, but Schwartz said he was out. All in all, it was a fun show.
