What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Curtis sits in Drew’s office, and Drew tells him that Larry McConkey died. Curtis says he saw it on the news. He’s sorry. He knows they were getting close. Drew says, that’s not all that happened today.

Michael and Willow go into the bedroom, and he asks if she’s okay. She says she’s a little shaky, and he says, it’s been a helluva day. Name it, and he’s at her service. She says, what she needs is sleep, but she appreciates him looking out for her. He says he’s her husband. It comes with the territory.

Brick meets Jordan at the Surf Lodge, and she thanks him for coming. He says he knew she’d call eventually, and she asks if he’s that irresistible. He says, her words, not his, and she says she definitely owes him a date. He says, this isn’t it? and she says, this is her asking for a favor.

Lucky is brought to Sidwell, and says he thought Sidwell turned in. Sidwell says he has a touch of insomnia, and he tells the guard to take Lucky’s handcuffs off. He takes it that Lucky is a gambling man, and Lucky says, it runs in the family. Sidwell says, perfect. Deal.

Mac tells Robert, merry Christmas, and Robert says, it’s September. Mac tosses a file on his desk and says he’s early. There was a murder at the Quartermaine mansion. Robert asks if the perp is in the file, and Mac says, there are plenty of suspects, half of Port Charles. But there’s one at the head of the pack. Robert smiles.

At the station, Diane asks Anna if her client is inside, and Anna asks if she doesn’t mean clients. Diane goes into the interrogation room and sees Jason and Ava. She says she’d like a word with her client and his plus one, and Anna leaves. She says she takes it Ava has her own counsel, but Jason says he needs her to help them both tonight.

Sonny tells Carly to make herself at home in the penthouse, but she says she’s not staying. He says, the cops will be here this morning. They have to get their story straight. She says she knows where she was when John Cates was murdered. Where was he?

Sidwell says, they have to agree on the stakes, and Lucky says, if he wins, he goes free. Sidwell says, how about if he wins, he stays alive? If he loses, he dies. He was going to kill Lucky anyway. Lucky says, shall we? and deals.

Brick looks at a photo on his phone and asks Jordan, who is this? She says she was hoping he could help find out. He’s a John Doe who was the victim of a hit and run. He’s at GH, unconscious, and no ID. The police are running his prints, but there’s nothing yet. He says, she thinks he can make the guy’s ID, and she says she’s sure of it, but he says, fingerprints and a photo aren’t a lot to go on. She says she knows she’s asking a lot and he’s busy, but he says, that’s not it. By the time he tracks the ID down, the guy could wake up and tell them who he is. She says, that’s why she appreciates him getting started on the search, and he says, anything for her, but there’s a price.

Sonny says, all that matters is that Jagger is dead. Jagger can’t come after Kristina or anybody he cares about anymore. Carly says, so when someone was killing Cates, he was supposed to be with her, and he says he appreciated her having his back. She says she doesn’t appreciate him implying they were having a tryst. They’re divorced, separated. Now he’s dragged her into the middle of a murder. Why? He says, after everything they’ve been through, he still trusts her with his life.

Ava tells Diane that she was unable to reach her lawyer. He’s been incommunicado for some time. Frankly, she’s worried. Diane says, about him or her? and Ava says, both. She was hoping not to involve lawyers, but Jason wouldn’t say a word without her. Diane says, that’s why he’s her favorite client. Why did Ava think they don’t need an attorney when they’re at the police station? Ava says, they did nothing wrong. Boyle was going to kill her, and Jason stopped her. Diane says she’s on retainer with Jason, but Jason says he’d appreciate her helping Ava too. Diane asks, why? and he says, they can both prove everything they’re saying is true.

Robert says, so Cates is dead, and Sonny is the number one suspect, and Mac says, Robin is going to take it hard. He’ll call her and be the bad cop on this one. Robert asks if that makes him the good cop, but Mac says, it makes him the father. Robert says, Cates basically lost his way, and Mac says, that’s a nice way to put it. He’s been torturing Kristina and there was nothing they could do about it. (Calling the FBI might have been an option. <heaving Jason sigh>). Robert says, so Sonny has motive, and Mac says, and plenty of opportunity.

Kristina comes downstairs and calls for Alexis, but there’s no answer. She checks her bag, and the gun isn’t there. She rifles through her stuff.

Willow says, there’s something she wants to tell Michael. When Drew first got the news about McConkey’s death, he was very upset, and it dredged up feelings about Alan and him never having had a father figure. It brought out a side of Drew she’s never seen before. Michael’s phone rings, and he says, if it’s important, they’ll call back. Willow says, Drew was so upset, she wanted to comfort him, when… Michael’s phone rings again, and he looks at it. He says, it’s Kristina again, and she says, he should answer it. Kristina tells Michael that he needs to come here right now, but he says he can’t. She says, it’s bad, and he asks, how bad? She says she’s missing a gun.

Carly says, if Sonny trusts her, why did he blindside her with this? Why did he mess up the bed and make everyone believe they had sex? She can account for her whereabouts. Why should she believe him? He tells her that if he admits it, they don’t have spousal privilege. He can’t tell her the details unless she’s willing to marry him again.

Michael goes to see Kristina, and she tells him that she had a gun and now it’s gone. He says, whose gun and what was she doing with it? She says she had it in her bag, and now it’s gone, and he asks if it’s possible her mom found it. She says she hopes so.

Alexis is on the footbridge with her phone and tells Diane to pick up. She wonders where Diane is and leaves a message for Diane to call her back. Her client may or may not have violated bail. She’ll give Diane five minutes. If she doesn’t call, Alexis will have to make the decision herself. She cries and says, please call back.

Ava says, Cates insisted she amend her statement and say Kristina tried to kill her, and Anna says, she appeared to be speaking of her free will, but Ava says she was coerced. Cates wanted leverage against Sonny. He knew she had reservations, and he was afraid she’d recant. He put her in a hotel room with Agent Boyle and made her believe she was in protective custody. She found a wad of cash in Boyle’s bag and knew she wasn’t an agent. Anna asks why she thinks Cates would mislead her about Boyle, and Ava says she became a liability. Boyle put her in a car and headed for the Pine Barrens. She fought Boyle for the wheel, the car swerved, and Boyle hit someone, but she didn’t stop. They reached the Pine Barrens, and she thinks Jason can take it from there. Jason says he called 911 about the guy that was hit and found Ava and Boyle not far from the car. He disarmed Boyle and called the cops. Anna says, that’s it? and he says, that’s all there is.

Drew tells Curtis that when he got the news about McConkey, it shook him up. He started thinking about his father and how he never knew him and never had a father figure. Emotions came up. Willow was there and she was there for him. Curtis asks, when Drew says she was there for him… Drew says, they kissed.

Alexis paces the bridge, crying and hyperventilating. She holds the gun.

Carly says she wants to be clear. She’s not marrying Sonny again. He says, that’s settled, but she says, it’s not. They’re still dealing with a federal murder investigation. He says, they’re coming after him and not using his daughter. He’ll be in the crosshairs, no one else. She says, except his alibi is her, and he says, sorry. He has to admit, working together seemed like old times.

Mac tells Robert that he took statements from the Quartermaine family and others present, including the staff. Sonny might be hard to nail down. Cody was in the stable within earshot and didn’t hear anything. Robert says, a silencer used on a stormy night would be hard to hear, and Mac asks what he thinks. Robert says, it took Cody a year to come to Mac and tell him that he was Cody’s father. That hardly makes him a reliable witness.

Jordan asks, what’s the cost? and Brick says, just answer a question. Why is it important? Jordan says, if the guy has a family, they need to know, and Brick says, that’s part of it, but not all of it. She says, the way he was injured got to her. He ran out in front of a car on a road with almost no traffic. He asks if she thinks he was being chased, and she says, yeah. He says, she misses being an investigator, and she says, sometimes. He asks if she ever thinks of going back to police work, and she says, sometimes. Does he think of going back to what he did before? He asks how she knows what he did, and she says she doesn’t. He never told her.

Lucky asks what’s keeping Sidwell up, and Sidwell asks if Lucky cares about his well-being. Lucky says, no. It’s a distraction tactic. Sidwell says, there’s only one reason that costs him sleep – women. In this case, an exceptional one. They met at the tables in Monte Carlo. She has beauty, charm, and elegance. The kind of woman you never forget. Lucky flashes back to dancing with Elizabeth, and says he’s been there. Sidwell asks if he’s thinking about his own lady, and Lucky says, he doubts she’d fit in at Monte Carly, but she is a beauty. What he’d call a winner. Sidwell says, like this? and lays down his hand. Lucky says, more like this, and lays down his.

Diane says, Jason has put her in quite a pickle, having to defend Ava this time, and Jason says, Ava is innocent – this time, and Ava thanks him and Diane. Anna comes in and Ava asks, what happens after she leaves here tonight? Cates isn’t going to stop until she’s dead. Anna says she doesn’t think Ava has to worry about that anymore.

Drew says he feels awful. Michael is his nephew, and Willow is his wife and the mother of his kids. He doesn’t know how to fix the position he’s put her in. Curtis says, all they did was kiss? and Drew says, yes. Curtis says, chalk it up to an emotional moment that got out of hand, but Drew says, it’s more than that. He and Willow have been getting closer and there’s an attraction that’s only getting stronger.

Willow picks up her and Michael’s wedding picture, looks at it, and cries.

Michael tells Kristina to start at the beginning. Where did she get the gun? She says, it was dad’s. She let herself into the penthouse and took it. Then she went to her daughter’s grave. She doesn’t know. Maybe it fell out of her bag, but she has no idea where it is. Michael says, she needs to tell him why she needed it, and she says, to get justice.

Alexis stands on the bridge and takes out her phone again. She sees Diane hasn’t called, and says, time’s up. She puts her phone back in her bag and hears footsteps. She throws the gun in the water, and Ric and Elizabeth walk onto the bridge eating ice cream.

Michael asks if Kristina used the gun to shoot somebody, and she says, no, but she wanted to. Two people, Ava and Cates. She knew Cates was at the Quartermaines. She heard him telling Anna when he arrested her again. He was charging her with killing her baby. It was so cruel. Michael says, Agent Cates is dead.

Alexis says, they startled her. She didn’t expect to see them here. Look at Ric. He has two of three of his ex-wives with him on the bridge. Ric says, small world. What brings Alexis out here? Alexis says, she was feeling stressed and wanted some fresh air and a walk. Ric says, they witnessed her littering, and Alexis says, they caught her. Her phone wasn’t working. She got frustrated and tossed it. She wishes she hadn’t. Elizabeth says, here’s hoping a new phone is better, and Alexis says, she’d better go get one and their ice cream is melting. Enjoy their walk. She leaves, and they both look in the water. Rick asks if it looked like a phone, and Elizabeth says, no. It was definitely a gun.

Mac tells Robert that Cody lied, and it was wrong. It wasn’t the best way to start off, but life is too short to hold a grudge against family. Cody saved James’s life too, so there’s that. Robert says, it’s a good thing he gave Cody a second chance, and Mac says, how about Robert? Robert asks why he should care, and Mac says, Robert was never one to cast stones. One of his two great loves had a very colorful past.

Anna tells Ava and Jason that Cates is dead. He was shot at the Quartermaine boathouse. Ava says, good riddance. He was going to have that woman kill her. Anna says, a team checked into Boyle. It’s not her real name, and she’s not affiliated with the FBI or any law enforcement. She has a checkered past, but they’ve corroborated everything Ava and Jason said. They’re both free to go. Ava thanks everybody, and leaves, but Anna says she’d like a word with Jason. Diane asks if she should stay, but Jason says, it’s fine. Diane says she was afraid he’d say that and leaves. Anna says she’s proud of Jason, and he asks, what for? She says, he called the police, and he says, it made more sense than the alternative. She says, while he’s here, what can he tell her about the murder of Special Agent Cates?

Jason says, Anna knew Cates was dead all along, and she asks if she needs to bring Diane back, but he says it’s not necessary. He doesn’t know anything about Cates. She says, what they both know is Cates went bad. There’s nothing worse than an officer of the law using the power of his badge to settle personal scores. A lot of people in this town wanted him dead. He and Sonny are at the top of the list. Jason says he couldn’t have done it, and she says, as a suspect, Jason is in the clear. Sonny is not.

Carly says, they’re going to be grilled about their alibi at some point, and Sonny says, they need to get their one-night stand story down. She asks how he seduced her this time, and he says he thinks they should say they were at the mansion. No one was there. They saw each other and things started to heat up. She laughs and says, please. That’s a terrible story and totally unbelievable. He asks if she wants rose petals and soft music. Does she think she can do better? Be his guest. She says, they saw each other here in the morning when she dropped off the girls. It felt better being around each other than it had in a long time. They ran into each other at the Quartermaines. Sonny likes the incorporating timeline, and she says she walked him outside. They were talking and got caught in the rain. She brought him upstairs to dry off and they kissed. It was sweet and nostalgic, and they made love. Something like that. He says, yeah. He’s got to admit he likes her version better.

Curtis says, everyone makes mistakes. Drew and Willow are one of them. Drew says he feels like he’s taking advantage of Willow’s gratitude, and Curtis says, he saved Willow’s life and put his own life in danger bringing her donor back. He legitimately earned it. Drew says, he likes the way it makes him feel… and Curtis says, being someone’s hero? and Drew says, it sounds cringeworthy when Curtis says it. The truth is, he admires Willow as much as she admires him. Curtis says, now that they’ve both got the admiration out of their systems, they need to put a stop to this before it goes way too far. Drew says, before today, he might have agreed, but the kiss wasn’t just two people caught up in a moment of feelings. There are real feelings. He can’t deny it anymore.

Elizabeth wonders what Alexis was doing out here alone at night getting rid of a gun, and Rick says, it probably has something to do with one of her daughters. He’s hoping it’s not his. She says she doesn’t know, and he says, clearly, they saw something they shouldn’t. She asks what he suggests they do about it.

Kristina tells Michael that she didn’t do it. She wanted to, but she didn’t. She went to the grave instead. He says he believes her, and she asks if he’s sure Cates is dead. He says, yes, and she says, then it’s over.

Brick says he’s always worked in security, and Jordan says, thanks for filling her in. He sighs and says, the military first, then he was at a three-letter agency. He became disillusioned. Too much power in the wrong hands can be a dangerous thing. So he decided to freelance, choose who he wanted to work with and what methods he employed. He can always walk away if he doesn’t like it. She says, so he breaks the law but has a code, and he says, she’s half right. He has a code. He also has work to do if she wants her guy ID’d. Regrettably, he has to cut the evening short. Jordan says she’ll make it up to him, and he says, with a real date? She says, if that’s what he wants, and he asks if that’s what she wants. She says, yes. She really does. He says, then he’ll make it happen, kisses her on the cheek, and leaves.

Lucky wins another hand, and Sidwell says, if he’s cheating, he can’t see it and he always sees it. Lucky says he has a little more to lose than Sidwell. Any chance they can change the stakes and play for his freedom? Sidwell says, the stakes say the same. They play until he wins and Lucky dies. Lucky says he would never have agreed to play, but Sidwell says, then Lucky would be dead, and he’d be awake and bored. This is more fun. Lucky says he hates to admit it, but sooner or later, he’s going to lose. It’s the odds. Sidwell says, then he’d better find a way to beat the odds.

Curtis says, feelings aren’t actions or betrayal, and they don’t make Drew a bad person, but Drew says he doesn’t feel like a good person. Willow is in pain because of him. Curtis says he’s sure Willow will forgive him, and Drew says, maybe she shouldn’t. She won’t forgive herself. Curtis says, maybe they should both forgive themselves and each other. Beating themselves up will only make it worse. Forget it every happened. Let it go. Drew says, one thing he can make sure of is acting on his feelings can’t happen again and it won’t happen again, ever.

Willow lies in bed, and Michael touches her face. He kisses her and they get busy. She imagines it’s Drew. She suddenly sits up, and sees that Michael’s side of the bed is empty.

Robert leaves a message for Holly and says he’s thinking of her. He hopes she’s staying out of trouble. Call him. Alexis comes in and says, they need to talk about Cates. He says he takes it she’s heard, and she says, Cates has been abusing her daughter. He’s prosecuting her and using her as a weapon in his obsession to take Sonny down. He says, Cates won’t be her problem anymore. He was shot dead tonight.

Kristina asks what Michael did when he found Cates, and Michael says he called Chase and waited for the police. Then Willow and Drew showed up. Willow was upset and shaking, so she and Drew went to the main house while he waited. Kristina says, so Cates was dead when Michael found him? and Michael says, yes. She says, he didn’t see who shot Cates? and he says, no. He had a lot of enemies. It could have been anyone.

Anna says, Sonny better have a good alibi, and Jason says, what about her? She’s not too broken up. She says she’s thankful Jason survived John Cates. Once upon a time, he was a good man, a good friend to Robin. She doesn’t know what happened, but whatever was worth saving was gone a long time ago. Nevertheless, he was an FBI agent and when they find the killer, they’ll go to prison for the rest of their life.

Sonny asks if Carly’s got everything straight, and she says, yes. She needs to get home. He says, if she stays, it will make the alibi stronger, and she says she hates that it makes sense. Okay, fine. She’ll stay in the guest room. Which one did Ava use? He says, the big one, and she says, the small one it is. She goes in the back, and he unlocks his gun box. He sees a gun missing and says, son of a bitch.

Sidwell asks what Lucky has, when the door opens. Sidwell says, if it isn’t the reason for his insomnia. A woman says, hello, darling. Is this poker? She loves poker. It’s how they met. Lucky tries to hide his expression upon seeing her, and she says, he must deal her in. We see it’s Holly, and Sidwell says, new hand. She sees at Lucky and also hides her reaction. She and Lucky look at one another.

Tomorrow, Jordan tells Dante that she’s going to pursue every avenue of this investigation that she can think of; Ava asks if this is someone’s idea of a joke; Carly tells Sonny that she’s not taking this any further than she absolutely has to; and Kristina says, one down and one to go.

🧴 The Rain In Spain Stays Mainly On the Plane…

I’m hoping Lois comes to realize that her accent is part of her charm.

Both of these look really good.

💰 This Week In LA…

JoshF, being a member of the Cultural Heritage Commission, said he appreciated a house with history, and checked out a Frank Lloyd Wright house that was beyond amazing. It had a hidden elevator that led to a tiki bar, theatre, and museum. We learned that hallways were wide in the old days because of the women’s dresses. He said the house was everything he stood for and represented.

Tracy checked out a penthouse in a building where she’d sold most of the units, but the developers had decided to keep the penthouse as an investment property. Now they were looking to re-rent or sell it. In going through the apartment – which at 6000+ square feet, is bigger than my house – she found dog pee and poopy on the drapes. Seriously? Again, this just reenforces my theory that all the wrong people have the money.

JoshA showed friend Dr. Ben what he said was the quintessential Beverly Hills estate, with seven bedrooms and 11 baths and a world record for the biggest front door. I have a hard time finding wreaths for my slightly large door, so I can’t imagine. He said, they might as well put a bathroom at the property entrance, since people will sh*t themselves when they see it.

JoshF’s bestie Denise Richards did a cameo in his video for selling the abovementioned house. In his interview, he said, if he was straight, he’d be with Denise. The threesome in Wild Things had him confused. His dog George also made an appearance. No surprise, Denise was in love, and he said, George was dumb as rocks, but Denise told him, those are the nice dogs. Yep, like my Golden Retriever, the misnamed Einstein. He was the sweetest dog you’d ever meet, but literally afraid of his own shadow and as stupid as they come. When Josh’s video editor said Josh’s deadpan performance was not as spot-on as Josh thought, Josh said he was Bill Murray good, but… um… no.

After telling her mother that she was too tired to date – it was exhausting – Tracy went on a blind double-date with the Altmans and Dr. Ben, who she deemed an amalgam of all men in the LA dating pool. She told him that he’d either end up either alone or with shallow bitches until he was 50, and then still be alone. He said he had eight years, and she told him that he was the quintessential LA dude. And that’s not a compliment.

And after all that, I still don’t know what a splooge is.

Next time, the season finale.

🗽 And In Other Real Estate News…

Quick, let me give Ryan a call. I’m only $13,999,999 short.

🏰 Not Quite a Listing…

So she didn’t sell it after all. This is actually a great idea. Bluestone Manor is an amazing property and the Bravoverse misses Dorinda.

👠 The Real Jersey Devils…

The money comes, the money goes.

https://okmagazine.com/p/teresa-giudices-net-worth-real-housewife-new-jersey-made-lost-millions/

This dude helped her not at all. When awful joins up with more awful.

Yeah, I don’t remember her either.

🤽‍♀️ Down the Shore…

It’s hardly shocking that the producers would be involved, but I’m surprised there were actual charges filed. I’m not a fan of this show, especially since I live in a Jersey shore town. The only person I’ve ever met who was even remotely like one of the Jersey Shore cast members, was also a raging alcoholic with several disorders. I tried watching this a few times. I’d stop watching, then watch again, remember why I stopped watching, and stop watching again. Yeah, yeah. I know the definition of crazy.

🩰 Dance the Night Away…

I haven’t watched this since Mel B was a contestant, but it looks like an interesting mix.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Lucy meets Doc at the PC Grill. She says, no wine? and he says he thought he’d wait to order. Aren’t Laura and Martin joining them? She says she doesn’t think they’d mind them having a pre-dinner cocktail. She could use one. It’s been a rough day… week… month… year. He says, that’s a bad time. They see Scotty sitting at the bar, and Doc says, looks like Scotty’s had a rough day as well. Before she says, it, he knows the decent thing to do is to invite him over. She says, Good God, no.

Tracy holds a snow globe and says she misses Luke so much, when Lois walks in with Brook. Tracy puts the snow globe behind her back, and Lois says she spies Tracy looking at that, but don’t worry. They won’t tell anyone that they saw her showing some Christmas spirit. Tracy asks why Brook hasn’t responded to her texts, and Brook says she was Christmas shopping with Chase and Leo and Violet. Tracy says, of course (🍷). Her phone doesn’t work in the proximity of small children. Brook says, she stops looking at it when she’s celebrating the joy of the season, and Tracy says, they have a business meeting tomorrow morning to figure out how this arrangement with Deception works. Brook says, tomorrow’s Christmas Eve, and Tracy says she’s well-aware, but now that Brook is going to be her business protégé, she’s going to have to change her priorities. Ned comes in and says, what’s that? Brook says, it’s true. She’s going back to work at Deception. Tracy says, but this time, it’s going to be different. This time, she’s going to be the boss. He asks if Lois knew about this, and she says she did, and she thinks it’s great.

There’s a knock at Ava’s door, and she opens it to Nina. Ava says she thought they were meeting at Rice Plaza to watch Avery and Donna in the Living Nativity, and Nina says she knows, but she needed to see Ava in private, without Sonny and the girls. Ava asks, why? and Nina says she needs Ava’s help before her whole world comes crashing down.

Just when you think Donna can’t get any cuter, they put her in a lamb costume. She asks if she looks okay, and Sonny says, she looks amazing. Michael joins them, and Donna asks if he’s here to watch her and Avery. He says, of course (🍷) he is. She’s going to be an amazing lamb. Donna says, Avery’s a shepherd, and he says, she’s going to be amazing too. He asks if she’s excited about being in the Living Nativity, and she nods. Cyrus approaches and says he is too.

Carly pours coffee for Sam and sees the headline about Brennan being head of the WSB on Sam’s phone. She asks if that’s the guy Sam and Dante are investigating, and Sam says, yes. He’s the new head of the WSB. Carly says, really. Because he told her that he was a security consultant. Sam says, she knows him? and Carly says, John Brennan. He’s been here in the diner a few times. He was here a half hour ago. Sam asks if he said where he was going, but Carly says, no. He got a phone call, and he took off.

At the pier, Anna says her Interpol contact is going to be here in twenty minutes, and Dante asks if she’s sure she can trust this guy. She says, absolutely. She’s confident they’re on the up and up. He says, it wouldn’t be a stretch for the head of the WSB to request interagency cooperation and make them disappear, but she says, not this time. Brennan’s been trying to ruin her life for months, but that all changes tonight. He’s going down.

Lucy tells Doc, sorry. It’s just that Scotty’s been pushing her to travel with him to Florida at Christmas to see Serina and the manatees. He says, Christmas with her daughter. What’s wrong with that? She says, nothing. She’s very tempted, but Scotty didn’t bother telling Serina about his plans and she found out Serina has a brand-new boyfriend… first Christmas and all. Fortunately for her and Serina, Scotty saw reason, and decided not to make the trip. He says he’s sure it will be nice for her and Martin to spend the holidays together, and she says, yeah. Together.

Ava says, Ned is blackmailing Nina too? and Nina says, it’s like a line is forming. If she doesn’t tell Ned information on Aurora, he’s going to tell Sonny that she’s the one who reported Carly and Drew to the SEC for insider trading. Ava says she guesses Nina better find some information that Ned will find useful, but Nina says she doesn’t have access to the inner workings of Aurora. Let’s just say in a perfect world she magically comes up with something and she tells Ned, and Michael finds out. He’s going to retaliate and tell Sonny. This is an impossible situation. Ava says, it is and she feels for Nina, but she’s got problems of her own.

Cyrus tells Sonny that he’s going to be one of the Wise Men. Melchiore, he believes, but they won’t be wearing nametags. He’s just on his way to pick up his crown and robe. Michael says, Cyrus isn’t coming anywhere near his little sister, but Sonny says, that’s all right. He’s taking care of it. Michael says, Sonny knew about this? and Sonny says he’s watching Cyrus like a hawk. No robes or crowns for him today. Cyrus asks Sonny to be reasonable. It’s a Christmas pageant. Sonny asks Michael to take Donna to the Nativity, and they leave. Cyrus says he doesn’t understand. What is the harm in him participating in the celebration of the holy season? Sonny says, celebrate on his own. He’s already been replaced. (Aww.) Laura and Martin join them, Martin wearing a robe, and Cyrus says, et tu, brother? Martin says, the name’s Melchiore, and Laura tells Cyrus, please don’t make a scene. Cyrus says he’s just surprised. Martin’s been averse to Christmas pageants ever since second grade when he tripped on the robe and knocked over the manger. Laura laughs, and Martin says he’ll make sure to watch his step this time. Laura asks if Cyrus will do this for her. Not as the mayor, but as his sister. Cyrus says he wishes them all the joys of the holiday season, and he leaves. Martin says, that’s what he’d call a Christmas miracle, and Laura suggests they be grateful he decided to play nice for whatever reason. Sonny says, thank you, Lord, for making the Wise Man swap, and Martin puts on his crown. Laura says, it looks like the other kings are gathering over there. Perhaps Martin should join them. Martin asks them to say a prayer he doesn’t trip over something, and this is over before they know it. He tells Laura to remember Lucy and Doc are waiting dinner for them, and he leaves. Laura asks if Sonny thinks Cyrus knew Avery and Donna were in the Living Nativity or it was just a coincidence, and he says he’s not sure, but he’s not taking any chances. Like he said before, he doesn’t think Cyrus killed Austin, but he’s not going to trust Cyrus anywhere near anyone he cares about.

Ava brings out the locked box and puts in the combination. It opens, and Nina says, she bought another gun? Ava says she didn’t buy it. It just appeared. She found it in the drawer the day she moved in, along with an ominous note saying, you’ll never know when you’ll need it. Nina says, so someone’s stalking her, and Ava says, or trying to frame her. They’re getting bolder.

Ned asks what Brook is thinking, and Lois tells Tracy that she’s going to need Brook all day tomorrow for last minute Christmas details. Unless of course (🍷) Tracy would like to help. There are cookies to bake, presents to wrap, and then of course (🍷), she got everybody matching PJ sets. She hopes she got Tracy the right size… Tracy says she can move the business meeting to December 26th. The pajamas? That’s a hard pass. She leaves, and Brook says, matching PJs? Really? Lois says, it worked with Tracy, didn’t it? and Ned asks if Lois has lost her mind. How can she, of all people, be happy that their daughter is giving up music to be a corporate executive. Lois tells him to use the good sense God gave him. Obviously, there’s an angle. He says, what angle? and Lois says, Brook isn’t going back to work at Deception for herself. She’s going back to outsmart Tracy and make things right with her friends.

Sam asks if Brennan said why he’s in Port Charles, and Carly tells her, he just said he was a security consultant here on business. He never said he was head of the WSB, but why would he? Sam asks if he said how long he was planning on staying, and Carly tells her, he said he’d be here for a little while. He was a little flirtatious and he seemed harmless. Does Sam know different? (Seriously? Have all those years with Sonny taught Carly nothing?) Sam says she doesn’t have all the facts, but if Carly sees him again, keep her distance and call Dante. Sam jets.

Anna tells Dante, if Forsythe hadn’t come after that report, she doesn’t know if she’d have realized she still had it. It had been stuck in that trunk for decades. But Brennan sending Forsythe is kind of like he dug his own grave. Hume listens from the shadows.

Carly looks at the article again on her phone and sets it on the table. She starts to clean up when she hears the door open. She says, we’re closed, and sees it’s Brennan. He asks if she has time for one more.

Lucy says, Doc is too compassionate for his own good, and he always has been. He says, okay. He’ll bite. What does she mean by that? She says, he really doesn’t understand that they’re completely surrounded by cutthroats and thieves, and sometimes, just sometimes, you really need to look out for number one. He says, just an observation, but it seems like she’s talking about something specific. Care to share? She says, Quartermaines. They never change their spots. He probably knows Tracy stole the company from her, but now she’s given Brook a job at Lucy’s company. This is the very woman who stole all the proprietary information on Lucy’s Deceptor, so she could give it to her grandmother to allow Tracy to file this pernicious lawsuit against them. He asks if it’s possible she’s more hurt than she is angry, but she says she’s so angry… but he’s right. She’s also very, very hurt by the whole betrayal. She trusted Brook. She let Brook in on the team and she turns out to be worse than her grandmother. Even more than Lucy imagined. He says he’s glad she’s getting these feelings off her chest, rather than keeping them bottled up inside, and she asks how he does that. He’s always such a good listener. She thanks him for letting her vent, and he says, she’s welcome. It’s what he does. Just a thought, but isn’t it better that Brook is in the office every day rather than her having to deal with Tracy day in and day out? She says, good point. She guesses she could rise above it, sort of, maybe. Try to make the best out of a bad situation. Scotty comes over to the table and says he can’t believe his ears. Is Lucy going to roll over and let Tracy win?

Lois asks if Ned really thinks she’d be encouraging their daughter to work in an office instead of following her dreams if there wasn’t a hidden agenda. Brook says, mom’s been hounding her for weeks to give in to Tracy. Once Tracy hands over the company to her, then she can give it back to Maxie and make things right. He says, if she thinks her grandmother is going to make this easy, she’s in for a very rude awakening, but Brook says she knows exactly what she’s in for. She either has to convince granny that she’s totally on board, making her completely comfortable enough to give her controlling interest, or due to their close proximity, she’ll have to dig something up in order to blackmail her with. He says, spoken like a true Quartermaine, and Lois says, not that that’s always a good thing, but in this case, Brook would be blackmailing for a worthy cause. He says, as long as her grandmother doesn’t figure it out and turn the tables, and Lois asks if he’s doubting their daughter. He says, absolutely not.

Nina asks if Ava still thinks it’s Nikolas sending her these notes, and that, and Ava says, well, who else? She left him for dead. He’s not going to let that go. Nina asks why he’d send her a gun if his plan is to attack her, and Ava says, or to frame her. For all she knows, this is the gun that killed Austin. Nina says, Ava thinks he’d go that far. That he’d come all the way here just to kill Austin to frame her for murder? Ava says she doesn’t know what to think anymore. For months, she thought Nikolas was dead and she was the one that killed him, and she thought that she could trust Austin. Nina says, she needs to calm down a bit, but Ava says she doesn’t have anyone to talk to about this. Her head has been spinning since Austin died. Nina says she thinks Ava needs a distraction. Why don’t they go to Rice Plaza? Ava says she thinks that’s a good idea. She thinks seeing Avery in that Living Nativity will make her feel better.

Michael tells Donna that she’s all set, and she thanks him for fixing it. He says, of course (🍷), and she asks if they’re going to see Wiley and Amelia on Christmas. He says, yeah, and she wonders if they can hang their stockings together. He says, it’s a great idea, but he thinks she’s going to be at her mom’s on Christmas Eve, and she says, daddy says Michael’s going to be with him and Nina on Christmas Eve. Cyrus watches from the shadows, and Michael says, he, Willow, Wiley, and Amelia and daddy and Nina. Donna tells him, daddy said this is going to be the best Christmas ever now that Nina’s part of the family.

Sonny asks how Laura is holding up, and she says she’s still worried about Charlotte. Physically, she’s on the mend, but emotionally, she’s struggling. He says he thinks she’s old enough to benefit from therapy, and Laura says she agrees. What about Anna? Has he spoken to her? He says, she’s very hard to get in touch with. She blames herself for what happened to Charlotte. Laura says, it was a terrible accident, and he says, they know that, but Anna just blames herself.

Anna tells Dante, the irony is, Brennan covered his tracks so well, he didn’t even realize he was implicated in the report. He kind of just brought this on himself. Dante’s phone rings, and he says he should take this. Hume stands in the shadows, holding a gun, and Dante asks Sam, what’s going on? She tells him, Brennan is in town. Carly saw him in Kelly’s. He must have come into town to take care of Anna himself. He asks if she can call the PCPD and tell the desk sergeant what’s going on, and she says she will. She tells him to be careful, and he says, always. He tells Anna that they have to get someplace less exposed, and they start to walk, but Hume pops out and shoots at them. They duck behind some crates.

Carly says, look who’s back, and Brennan says, apologies. That call pulled him away before he could even put in an order. Now they’re closed and he’s missed his chance. She says, he can stay. The cook is gone for the night, but she can heat up some meatloaf. It won’t be fancy… He says, simple works for him. She’s very kind.

Lucy tells Scotty that she took the deal for Maxie and Sasha’s sake. And besides, 49% of a viable company is a heck of a lot better than 100% of nothing. He says, but she gave away her ELQ tie-breaking vote, and she says she did not. It was extorted out of her by Tracy. If she hadn’t given up her precious share of ELQ, Tracy would have blown the whole deal, and she, Maxie, and Sasha would have been completely bankrupt. He says, so she’s just going to let Tracy trample over the company she built, but she says, absolutely not. She has just begun to fight back. He says, it doesn’t seem like it, and Doc says, what it seems like is Scotty rubbing salt in the wound. Maybe it’s time to head home. Scotty says, all right. He’s not going to justify having to take flack for doing his job. Doc says he doesn’t even know what that means, and I’m glad he said that because I don’t either. Scotty says he’s not going to apologize for representing Doc’s wife’s criminal brother Cyrus or for representing Elizabeth. His Liesl just won’t give him a second chance. Tracy blows in and goes to the bar, where she puts down her bag. Scotty follows and Lucy gets up, but Doc says, Lucy… Stay. She sits back down, and she asks if he isn’t going after Scotty, but he says he doesn’t care about Scotty. He cares about her. Besides, he wants to watch this.

Tracy orders a dirty martini, top shelf vodka, no such thing as too dirty. Scotty sits down near her, and she says, go away. He says, as she can see, his coat was here – he indicates the coat on the back of his stool – so if he’s going to bother her, he suggests she vamoose. She says, nothing he does has any effect on her at all, and he says, fine. She says, fine.

Ava says she’s going to see Avery and will catch up with Nina later, and Nina joins Sonny and Laura. She says, nice to see them. Rice Plaza looks amazing. Laura thanks her, like she did it all herself, and says she’s very proud of their town. It’s really good to see Nina, but she has some things she needs to attend to. She leaves, and Sonny asks why Nina is so late. She says, she and Ava had some girl talk. Why? Did he miss her? He says, always, and kisses her.

Ava says she understands Martin has to learn his Wise Man duties on the job, and Martin says he was a last-minute substitution. Michael joins them, and Ava sees Cyrus going by. She asks, what is that monster doing here? She doesn’t want him anywhere near Avery. Michael says, don’t worry. His dad took care of it. She says, good. Because she doesn’t believe that man’s conversion for a second. Ava flashes back to Sonny telling her that Austin’s boss is Cyrus Renault, and she says she knows Cyrus is as dangerous as he always was.

Carly says she’s glad Brennan is okay with meatloaf. Although it’s going to take a while to heat up. He says he hopes he’s not putting her out. He can just come back another… She says, that’s okay. She wasn’t done closing down the kitchen yet, so she’ll be right back. It’ll just take a minute. She heads for the kitchen, but says, oh, her phone, and turns around. He says, is this it? and picks it up. He sees the article about himself and tells Carly that he sees she knows his secret.

Anna and Dante draw their guns, and Hume says, there’s no way out. Give him what he wants and nobody else gets hurt. She tells Dante, that’s not Brennan, and Hume says, is she willing to add Detective Falconari to her long list of collateral damage? She says she wants to talk to Brennan, and Hume says he’s here to help her before this all gets worse. He hears her latest shooting victim is out of the hospital. Charlotte Cassadine? A child? Really? I say, really? to Hume trying to psyche Anna out. He says, all because of something that happened in the 80s? Let’s end this now. Anna tells Dante, he’s right.

Brook tells Ned that she can’t let granny push her around. The only way to deal with Tracy is to face her head on. He says, sadly, it took him a few more years before he learned that particular lesson, and she says she knows working back at Deception will temporarily take her away from her music career, but she won’t let down her clients. She’ll work 24/7. She’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that granny is out of Maxie’s company. Lois says, Maxie’s company? What about Lucy? Brook says, Lucy has made it perfectly clear she won’t work with her, and Ned says, sounds like she’s facing an uphill battle. Brook says she’s not scared. Nothing is going to stop her from making this right.

Anna says, don’t shoot. She’s coming out. She stands up with her hands in the air and puts her gun down. She says she knows where the evidence is. It’s in a safety deposit box and she has the key right here. She points to her pocket, and he says, slowly. She takes a key out of her pocket, and he says, toss it to him. She says, he knows Brennan’s just tying everything off right now. Forsythe’s dead. Does Hume think he’s going to be next? He says he’s not worried. He earns his keep. She says she’s sure that’s what Forsythe thought too, but Brennan only keeps people who are useful around him. Everyone has a sell by date. Doesn’t he think his is up? In the meantime, Dante has run around behind Hume, and clocks him in the head. Hume goes down, and Sam comes out. Dante asks what she’s doing here, and she says, checking on him. Is he okay? He cuffs Hume, and Sam says, they don’t know who this is. Dante takes out Hume’s wallet and looks at his ID. He says, Roman Hume. It says he works for Pikeman. Hume comes to, and Dante hoists him up. Anna says, where’s Brennan? and Hume says, make him a deal. Dante says, not a chance, and Anna says, they have to find Brennan before he realizes they’ve got his lieutenant. Sam says she thinks she may know where he is.

Carly says, if Brennan had told her that he was the director of the WSB, she would have thought he was a liar, and crazy. He chuckles and says he’s curious as to how she figured it out. She says she looked it up on the internet. (How is he director of the WSB? Not exactly the brightest bulb in the box.) There’s many John Brennans, but only one director of the WSB. She clicked on the link and magic! his picture popped up. Anyway, she’s going to go heat up the meatloaf. He says, Hume told him that her former son-in-law was involved. Falconari, right? The connection’s in there somewhere. She asks how he knows Dante, and he says he’s director of the WSB. If there’s something he wants to know, he knows it. Just as he made it his business to know about Sonny Corinthos, his operation, the people he holds dear. There’s just one thing he doesn’t know. What is he going to do with her?

Nina sees Michael buying cookies and says, they need to talk. In private. They walk off together.

Laura tells Ava that Avery looks adorable, and Ava says, doesn’t she? She’s been talking about her costume for weeks. Laura says, she’s taking her role so seriously, and they laugh. Ava says she knows it’s a difficult topic for both of them, but does Laura have any more information about Nikolas’s whereabouts? Laura says she doesn’t unfortunately, and Ava asks if she thinks she’ll keep looking for him. Laura says she wanted to stay in Europe and keep looking, but she got that call from Valentin about Charlotte and knew she was needed at home. Also, Doc told her that Nikolas will come home when he’s ready to face the people he left behind.

In a more private area, Michael asks what Nina wants, and Nina says, Ned knows she’s the one who tipped off the SEC. He asks what that has  to do with him, and she says, he wants information on Aurora to use against Michael and Drew, and if she gives him that information, he’ll keep taking the blame. He says, she doesn’t know anything about Aurora. What was Ned thinking? She says, he’s thinking she’ll find a way. That’s why she’s talking to him. He needs to help her get Ned off her back. He asks why he’d do that, and she says, think about it. This is like Blackmail 101. If Ned tells Sonny, Michael will have nothing to hold over her head. If he wants her to continue keeping her distance from her daughter and grandchild, he’ll help her out. He says he only kept quiet to protect Willow. She’s going to be devastated when she finds out what Nina did, but maybe it’s best to get it all over with. Nina says, all right. She’ll play his game. If Ned tells Sonny the truth, then guess what? She’ll tell Carly the truth that he knew she was the real informant this whole time and he never said anything. (Wouldn’t a better idea be to tell Willow?)

People run past, startling Ava, and Sonny says, why so jumpy? She asks if he really needs her to answer that question. First of all, they still don’t know who killed Austin. Then there’s the fact that Nikolas is alive and out there somewhere. She can only assume he’s plotting his revenge against her. He asks what she’s not telling him. Did something else happen? Donna runs up and asks if Michael is back with the cookies, and Sonny says, not yet, but he’ll be here any minute. Ava asks if Donna is having fun with Avery. They’re not too cold, are they? Donna says, no. They’re having a great time. Only one thing could make this Christmas even better. Sonny asks, what’s that? and Donna says she wants to open presents with Avery on Christmas, but Avery has to be with her mom. Can Avery and Ava come over to join them? Sonny and Ava look at each other.

Scotty says, that’s a stiff one. How come Tracy is drinking alone? She asks why he cares when he’s clearly doing the same thing, and he says he just figured she’d be at the mansion with the servants and the family. Of course (🍷) they don’t like her any more than he does. She asks if he’s been overserved. Maybe he should go home before he embarrasses himself further. He says, all right. He’s going to raise the white flag right now. It wasn’t that long ago that he was her lawyer. They thought she’d killed that guy, but his assistant had done it. Then remember? They got hot and heavy. (I don’t remember. When was this???) She says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about. That doesn’t sound like something she’d do. He says he can’t believe she’d forget the look on Lee and Gail’s face when they came in and caught them going at it on top of his desk. The look was priceless. She says, the only thing she remembers was them asking her why she was slumming with him, and he says, so she does remember. She says, correction. She’s trying not to remember. He says, why the high hat all of a sudden? She’s the one who was married to Luke, that no good, criminal jackass. She throws her drink in his face.

Carly says, Brennan has seriously miscalculated. If anything happens to her… He says he knows all about the mobster ex-husband, and she says she’s talking about the Navy SEAL boyfriend, but Sonny will kill him too. He says he was really starting to like her. Now that he’s seen how she parades under duress, he likes her even more. Sadly, they seem to be the victims of rotten luck. He takes out some brass knuckles, and she says, get away from her. She grabs something off the counter and whacks him with it. He stumbles back, as Anna and Dante come in, guns drawn. Anna says, hands where they can see them, and Brennan puts his hands up.

Ava says she knows Donna wants to be with her sister on Christmas, but her family is so big and family gatherings can be tricky. Sonny tells Donna, that’s a great idea, but why doesn’t she let the grown-ups talk? Go find Avery at the Nativity. Donna says, yay! and skips off. Ava says she knows the girls want to be together on Christmas morning, but she knows the situation is prickly. So please don’t do this for her. Sonny says he’s not doing it for her; he’s doing it for his daughters. She says, right. Of course (🍷). But they won’t stay long. She knows this is his first Christmas with Nina as husband and wife. She wouldn’t want to intrude on that. He says he doesn’t think Nina would mind at all. They’re going to have so many Christmases ahead of them.

Michael says he can explain to his mother what he did and why. Can Nina do the same thing with his father? Nina says she’s sorry. She shouldn’t have said that. It doesn’t have to be this way. Willow doesn’t need to know. Can he just make up something about Aurora so she can pass it on to Ned? It helps both of them if Sonny never finds out. Cyrus listens from the shadows, which seems to be the trend in Port Charles, and Michael says, okay, fine. He’ll take care of Ned.

Ned pours some wine, and Lois says, their marriage might not have worked out, but they did raise one hell of a daughter. He clinks her glass and says, agreed. Brook comes in and asks, what’s going on? What did she miss? Ned says, she didn’t miss anything. He and her mom were just having a nice conversation. Brook says, nice conversations and Quartermaines do not go together, and Lois says, but she’s not a Quartermaine. They were just talking about how much they love her. Brook says, is that all? and Ned hugs her while Lois smooths her hair.

Detectives arrive and Brennan is cuffed. Carly asks how Dante knew to come here, and he says, Sam told him about the conversation they had about Brennan. Carly thanks Sam, and Sam says, of course (🍷). She’s just glad they got here in time. Anna hands a detective the folder, and says, this is the evidence Brennan was so desperate to get ahold of. He asks, what’s the significance of the wallet? and she says, if he pulls back the lining, he’ll see a sequence of numbers that lead to a Swiss bank account. She goes over to Brennan and says, long time, huh? She calls him ex-director Brennan and asks if he thinks they’ll invite Frisco back to clean up his mess. He says, at least she’s been exposed as a double agent. Now everyone knows who she is. She says, that’s right, but her past can’t come back to hurt her anymore. He says, she almost killed a child. What does she have left? She says she has herself, and he says, good luck then. She’ll need it. Brennan is led out, and as he goes past Carly, he says, rotten timing? Dante says, it looked like Anna was willing to risk her life for his back there, and Anna says, if it had come to that, she would have. Brennan is right about one thing. She won’t allow anyone else to get hurt because of her mistakes.

Doc tells Lucy, as if on cue. Scott Baldwin can get under someone’s skin unlike than anyone he’s ever known.

Tracy tells Scotty that she’d say she just wasted some premium vodka, but when a better use comes along, you go for it. She walks out, and he says he’ll send her the dry-cleaning bill.

Lucy watches Tracy leave, and Doc says, don’t. Whatever she’s thinking, whatever she’s scheming, he promises her it will not end well. She says, who, me? She doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He really does worry too much. Laura comes in, and asks, was that Tracy Quartermaine she just saw storming through the parking lot? Doc says, yes, and kisses her. Lucy says, so good to see her, but she thought Martin was coming with her. Laura says she’s so sorry, but Martin is still participating in the Living Nativity at Rice Plaza. Lucy says, that’s great. When Laura asked him, she encouraged him to do it. She just didn’t think it would go so late. Laura says, sorry about that. She’s afraid he’s not going to be able to join them for dinner.

Michael gives Donna the cookies and says, she did a great job being in the Living Nativity. She asks if she can share them, and Michael says she can. She goes over to Martin, who says, it’s so nice of her to offer, and takes one.

Nina runs up to Sonny, who says he was just about to look for her. She says she’s so sorry. There was a minor crisis at the MetroCourt, but she handled everything. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, everything she could possibly ever want is right here.

Martin says, serving as a Wise Man was more arduous than he thought. Donna did a stellar job as their lamb tonight. She was better behaved than the angel. He thinks the angel had a dented halo. Cyrus watches from a distance as Martin talks to Donna.

Tomorrow, Portia asks what Spencer really knows about love; Finn tells Elizabeth that he doesn’t know what to do at this point; Charlotte asks Laura, what could he possibly be doing on Christmas Eve; and Anna tells Valentin that she can’t be part of his family.

August 12, 2021 – Jason Wants To Talk To Jax, Bluestone BNB & No No No

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the Tan-O, Sonny says he hopes they don’t regret it, and Nina says, leaving the hospital? It’s Lenny’s decision, and Phyllis is a nurse and backed him up. Sonny tells her, the doctor said it was Lenny’s choice whether he wanted to wait for the biopsy or come home. He doesn’t blame Lenny for wanting to come to the Tan-O, rather than staying at the cancer ward. Nina takes his hand, and says, they don’t know anything yet. They could still get that happy ending. Phyllis brings Lenny in, and he says he missed this old place. He tells Phyllis, he’s home, and he’s never leaving again.

Carly says she hopes Jason doesn’t feel like she’s pressuring him, and he says, about what? She says, Donna won’t remember a time he wasn’t her stepfather. They’ve been friends a long time, best friends. Now they’re getting married and that changes things, doesn’t it? Josslyn comes in with a file box, and asks if she’s interrupting.

Jax is waiting for Britt outside her office, and she says, it’s all his fault, pointing to her new Co-Chief of Staff nameplate. He asks, how’s that his fault? She says she took his advice and agreed to share her job with Dr. Randolph. Of course (🍷), if it all blows up in her face, she’ll know who to blame. It’s a joke. What’s with the long face? He asks how much time she’s got.

Curtis asks Portia if there isn’t something he can do to help her out with Trina, and she says she’ll let him know if she thinks of anything. Hell, she probably would have stormed over to Josslyn’s house, and dragged Trina home herself if Jordan hadn’t convinced her not to. Curtis takes her hands, and they turn to see Trina. Portia drops Curtis’s hands like a hot potato, and says, it’s good to see her. She was wondering if they could talk, but Trina says she came to see Stella.

Cameron sees Spencer reading by the pool (🍷), and says War and Peace? Spoiler alert. Andre dies and Natasha marries Pierre. Spencer says, he already finished the book? but Cameron says, he has a job. That’s what Wikipedia is for, but since he saved Spencer about 1000 pages of reading, Spencer can thank him by telling him a little more about this party he’s having on Spoon Island.

Ava tells Nikolas that he can’t be at the gallery, but he says, actually, he can. She says, no, he can’t. If the stalker finds out, it can get worse for them. He says, they won’t, because he knows who the stalker is, and she tells him, then go to the police, and talk to them… He says, so far, the stalker’s been in the shadows, but now he has a name and he has a face. It’s a face Nikolas knows as well as his own, because their stalker is his son.

Sonny asks why Lenny doesn’t have a seat and take a load off, and Nina suggests Lenny let them pamper him. Lenny walks over to the bar, and Nina asks what he’s doing. He says, reminding himself how good this bar feels, and it’s still here. And he’s still here. Nina thinks maybe it’s a good sign they’re taking their time analyzing Lenny’s biopsy,, and Lenny says, he’s been married to Nurse Caulfield long enough to know a test like the one he took is like shooting craps. Sometimes the lab comes up sevens, and sometimes it comes up snake eyes, but until they get that call, please don’t treat him like he’s fragile. Nina says, they’ll try not to, but Phyllis says she’s sorry. She just can’t do that.

Carly says Josslyn could never be interrupting. They were just having a sweet moment with her baby sister. Josslyn says, Donna has a way of bringing people together, and Carly asks, what’s in the box? Josslyn says she was just going through her stuff, deciding what she wanted to bring to her dorm, and what she wants to donate. Carly takes out a doll, and says she’s not going to donate Mrs. Trizzle; she was Josslyn’s favorite. Josslyn says, she still is, but she’s not going to take a doll to her dorm. She wants Donna to have her. Carly says, that’s so sweet. She tells Jason, when Josslyn was Donna’s age, she took Mrs. Trizzle everywhere. Josslyn says she was under the belief that the doll could make all the monsters in her closet go away. If only it was that easy in real life. Jason asks what that means; is Joey Novak bothering her again? Josslyn says, no, she hasn’t seen him. Moss bowl! Jason asks if Devon is staying close, and Josslyn says, he’s an excellent bodyguard, so she’s fine, but she did get a message from her dad. Carly says, about what? and Josslyn says, that’s just it. All it said was, are you okay? So what does she think he meant by that?

Jax says, it’s about his daughter, and Britt asks if Josslyn is okay. He says, no thanks to Carly’s new living arrangements, and Britt says she thought he made peace with Carly and Jason. He says, that was before he learned, despite Carly’s assurances, her marriage to Jason might not actually make his daughter safer. It might do the exact opposite.

Portia says she’s glad to see Trina is okay, and Trina says she’s fine. Joss and her mom made her feel very welcome staying at their house. Portia says, it won’t be long before Trina moves into her dorm, and she’d like to enjoy spending time with Trina before she leaves. Trina says, tonight, she’s hanging out with Joss, Cam, and Spencer, so she’ll probably crash at Joss’s one more night. Can she see Miss Henry? Portia says, actually, Miss Henry has been cleared to go home, but she’ll see if she’s up for a visit before she leaves. She goes to Stella’s room, and Trina says she knows what Curtis is going to say; that she was wrong to make her mom worry. He says, actually, he was going to say he was worried about her too.

Portia goes into Stella’s room, and Stella says she doesn’t know Portia well, but she seems concerned. Has there been some complication? Some reason to keep her there longer? Portia says she’s still cleared to go home, but as far as a complication – Stella says, just tell her – her daughter is outside and would like to see her.

Ava says, Nikolas thinks Spencer is the stalker? and he says, yes. She says, that’s impossible, but he says he thinks they both know, when it comes to his son, nothing is impossible. She says she had a recent conversation with Spencer, and they seemed to reach a kind of detente. He asks if she doesn’t think Spencer is capable of faking a breakthrough, and she says, that doesn’t explain how he could terrorize her long distance. The incidents began long before Spencer came back to Port Charles. Nikolas says, that’s what they were led to believe, and she says she doesn’t understand. He says, the postmark on the letter would suggest otherwise, and she says, what letter? He takes it out, and says, special delivery to Spencer from an old friend of hers. Ryan Chamberlain. She takes the letter from him.

Spencer says he invited some old friends, and Cameron says, like who? Spencer says, Britt Westbourne, and Cameron says, he invited the GH Chief of Staff? Spencer says, she turned him down, but he’s hoping she’ll change her mind. And some friends from school are flying up from the city. Cameron says, flying up? Impressive. Tell him more about the party. Is Spencer flying in a DJ from the city? Maybe London? Spencer says, California, actually. The DJ works some of the hottest clubs in Los Angeles. His friends from school are really looking forward to it. He’s hoping he can broaden the horizons of some of his Port Charles friends. The way he sees it, a good party isn’t just a collection of people; they all have to blend together just so. Cameron asks how they’re supposed to blend with European kids they’ve never met?

Trina says, there’s no reason for Curtis to worry about her. She’s eighteen, she voted, she’s moving into a dorm soon. He says he’s not questioning her independence. He’s simply pointing out she’s been avoiding her mom by staying at Josslyn’s, since she overheard his aunt talking about her mother and him, back when she was still married to Trina’s dad. She says, it wasn’t easy, finding out her mom wasn’t perfect, and sure, there’s a part of her that wishes she’d never found out, but the bigger part of her needed to know. So in a way, Stella did her a favor.

Stella says she’s sure Portia’s daughter isn’t there to bring her flowers. More likely, she’s there to dress her down for telling tales about Portia and Curtis. Honestly, she wouldn’t blame Trina. Portia says her daughter wouldn’t be there unless she cared about Stella. That’s why Trina wants to see her. Stella asks, what about Portia? Does she want Trina to see her, or does she feel Stella has caused enough harm as it is?

Jax tells Britt, he made the choice of giving Carly the benefit of the doubt. Whatever else her marriage to Jason means, he accepted the premise that they’d be stronger together, which would hopefully mean more protection for Josslyn. But instead… Britt says, a random mobster approached his daughter. He says, that’s right. Is he supposed to be okay with that, because it was completely inappropriate. Britt says, his daughter is going to college soon. Does he think inappropriate is going to end when she walks through the ivy-covered gates of PCU? That’s what Title 9 is for. He says, but Title 9 isn’t going to protect her from guys like Joey Novak. Carly invites this kind of threat purely by the nature of her business. She knows that he’s right, and it doesn’t just apply to Carly; it applies to Jason too. She says he has every right to be concerned, but she thinks if he takes a step back, he might see Jason isn’t the problem. In fact, he could be the solution.

Moss bowl! Carly says Josslyn’s father knows about her run-in with Joey Novak, and Josslyn asks why Carly would tell him. Carly says she didn’t; he overheard them talking. Josslyn asks if Carly couldn’t reassure him, and Carly says she tried, but to be fair, he has every right to be concerned. Jason says, he’s not the only one. He ran into Cameron at the boxing gym, and he was hitting the heavy bag like it was Joey Novak. Josslyn says, great, just what she needs. Her father, and now her… friend getting hurt on her account. Jason says, nobody’s going to get hurt. He’s going to make sure of that. Josslyn says, this is what dad doesn’t seem to understand. The two of them getting married is the answer to everything. They trust each other, they can handle any problem that comes up, and bonus, they actually love each other. So her only question is, when is this wedding actually going to happen?

Sonny suggests he and Nina go for a walk, but Phyllis says, no. She wants everyone to hear this. Lenny’s not the only one who came home from the hospital with a different perspective. All along, she insisted Lenny do everything he can, try every treatment, go the extra mile. Nina says, of course (🍷). She’s a nurse. Phyllis says she’s also the woman who loves her husband, but love also means living, not simply existing. There has to be a quality of life. So whatever that biopsy says, whatever lies ahead, she wants Lenny, and the both of them, to know she’s all in. She wants Lenny to savor the time he has and enjoy it. Or as a certain former marine would say, better to die of living than to die of dying. He says, when she puts it that way – he kisses her hand – he may just live forever. They hug, and Sonny and Nina smile at one another.

Lenny goes over to Nina, and says, no tears. The Tan-O is all about good times. It reminds him of an old Cajun buddy he knew back in basic training. He used to say, laissez les bon temps rouler! It means… Sonny says he knows what it means. Let the good times roll! Lenny says, you really do remember the things that count, Mike. That’s pretty special.

Josslyn asks why they haven’t picked a wedding date, or started making plans? Jason gets a free pass because everyone knows he hates social events. He says he doesn’t hate them… Yeah, he pretty much hates them. Josslyn says, he hates party planning, but Carly owns a hotel and can plan big events in her sleep. So what’s stopping her? Carly asks if Josslyn isn’t supposed to meet her friends. She’s going to be starting college soon. She might as well enjoy the summer while she still has it. Josslyn says Carly is right; she should meet Cam and Trina. She asks if it’s okay to leave the box for Carly to drop off. Also, don’t worry, but she may be back late tonight. Carly says, how late? and Josslyn asks if Carly didn’t just tell her to go off with her friends and enjoy her summer. A couple of them are getting together one last time before they part ways for college. Carly says, that’s vague. Who all is going to be there? Josslyn says, Trina, Cameron, Spencer, the usual crew. Does she need to be more specific? Carly is pretty sure that’s the best she’s going to get, and Jason says he’s going to have Tony drive Josslyn. Josslyn asks, why? Tony is great, but Devon gets the job done. Jason says, Tony has more experience. There’s going to be a lot of kids, a lot going on, a possible distractions. He’d feel better if Tony was with her. She says, okay, and Carly says, Tony knows how to be unobtrusive. He’ll stay out of the way and respect her privacy… to an extent. Josslyn says, oh joy, and Jason says he’s sorry. Josslyn says, it is what it is, and he asks if she’s heading to the pool (🍷) now. She says she is, and he says he’ll have Tony meet her there. Moss bowl! Josslyn says, not tonight, but sometime in the near future, they really should talk about her getting her own car. That way, Tony, or whoever it might be, can follow her. Like a discreet tail. Like a Secret Service Agent. Carly says they’ll definitely think about that, and Josslyn leaves. Carly thanks Jason, and he says, for what? She says, making sure that wasn’t a mother/daughter issue, and he says she’s welcome. But his work is only beginning. She asks what that’s supposed to mean, and he says he has to talk to Jax.

Jax can’t believe Britt is defending Jason. The guy’s a magnet for violence. She says she’s not denying violence is a part of Jason’s life, but from her experience, Jason can also be the best defense against it. Case in point, the time he escaped from GH. Jax says, the time he almost got her killed, but she says, no. Jax couldn’t be more wrong. Cyrus figured out that she was on to the illegal drugs he was manufacturing, so he sent his goons to her office. They were five seconds away from injecting her with a lethal overdose, when Jason jeopardized his own escape to save her. She’s alive because of him. He says, what is it with Jason Morgan? No matter how much damage he causes, he has otherwise intelligent people lining up to forgive him for almost anything.

Curtis says the last thing he wanted was for Trina to get hurt. Like he always tells TJ, actions have consequences, so if she wants to blame someone, blame him. Stella needs to recover, and all Trina’s mom has been doing for the last few days is worrying about Trina. Portia comes back, and asks if everything is okay. Curtis says, yeah; they were just talking. Trina asks if she can see Stella now, and Portia says Stella is expecting her. Trina goes to Stella’s room, and Curtis says, she’s a helluva kid. Portia says, which only makes it more painful to know she’s disappointed Trina so much.

Trina tells Stella that Cameron told her what happened at Kelly’s, and Stella says she’s so grateful. If Cameron hadn’t acted so quickly… Trina says she’s so sorry, but Stella says, please. Let her talk first. She’s really glad Trina came, because it gives her a chance to say how sorry she is; how very, very sorry.

Cameron says, if Spencer is afraid that Joss, Trina, and him are going to embarrass him in front of his Euro friends, screw him and his party. He gets up, and Spencer says, wait. It’s not like that. He follows Cameron over to the bar, and says, it’s the other way around. Cameron asks what he means, and Spencer says, it’s not like he didn’t meet tons of people overseas, but they’re more like acquaintances, not actual friends. They can talk for days about fashion or fusion cuisine or who’s hooked up with who, but it’s all surface. Superficial. No one asked him once if he missed his dad. They all just wanted to know what kind of care he drove. Tonight, he wants them to see what real friends are like. That’s one of the big reasons he came home, because he wanted things to be more… Cameron says, dull? Pedestrian? Spencer says, authentic. Why does Cameron think he likes Trina so much? She doesn’t BS; she tells it like it is. Cameron says he’s right about that. Maybe if Trina can put up with Spencer, he and Joss can try to put up with his Euro friends. Spencer was hoping he’d say that, and asks if Cameron won’t mind hopping on the phone and inviting some more people like himself. Cameron asks if he means more townies, and Spencer laughs.

Ava reads, my apologies for the disappointment called your father. Don’t let his and Ava’s selfishness stymy your progress. Looking forward to more tales of your exploits. Ryan. She tells Nikolas, so this is Ryan’s sick idea of a fan letter, but how does it make Spencer the stalker? He says, Spencer lied about when he received the letter from Ryan, and before that, he caught Spencer in another lie. He admitted he knew about the cockroach. He talked his way out of that one, but it all adds up, because Ryan couldn’t have possibly done all those things to threaten him, but Spencer could have. She says, but all those things happened weeks before Spencer came to town, and he says they only have Spencer’s word that he was on the Amalfi Coast. What if Spencer returned to Port Charles weeks before he walked through the front door of Windymere? He’s got the money and the resources to hide, and he’s crafty enough to make all the various incidents look like they were planned by a madman obsessed with her, except nothing about it was crazy. Everything was calculated to drive them apart, and it almost succeeded. She says she understands Spencer has reason to resent her, hate her even, but why would he do this to Nikolas? He loves Nikolas. Nikolas says, the father that let him believe he died. The father that abandoned him, and wasn’t there for him. Whatever Spencer’s done, whatever the reasons, it’s as much his fault as it is Spencer’s. That’s why he has to put a stop to Spencer’s plans, and give him a taste of his own medicine – tonight. Ava tells him, stop. That is the last thing he should do.

Lenny puts on some Cajun music, and tells Phyllis, he won’t take no for an answer. She says he’s incorrigible, and he says that’s why she loves him. He and Phyllis dance, and it looks like loads of fun. Nina and Sonny bop to the music.

Ava tells Nikolas, she knows Ryan’s letter seems incriminating, but it’s hardly a smoking gun. Why doesn’t he give Spencer a chance to explain himself? He says he already tried. He showed Spencer the letter, suggested its implications, and Spencer never even broke a sweat. She asks if that didn’t tell him anything, and he says, yes. It tells him that Spencer is his father’s son. And even when he wasn’t there in person, he was still teaching Spencer the Cassadine way. Maybe it’s in his DNA, or maybe those three years Nikolas was away taught Spencer all the lesson he needed. Regardless, he knows Spencer is the stalker, and it’s up to him to help Spencer, even if it makes Spencer hate him.

Cameron says, let him get this straight; Spencer wants him to invite more authentic people. Spencer says, he’s been away so long, he’s practically a stranger. Doesn’t Cameron know anyone that’s cool? The more the merrier. Josslyn joins them, and asks what Spencer is doing there. Spencer says, not happy to see him? and she says, just a little suspicious. Ragers on islands don’t throw themselves; they require planning. Is he there planning the party, or is there still a party?

Trina says Stella doesn’t owe her an apology. All she did was tell Trina the truth. Stella says she can hear the hurt in Trina’s voice. A multitude of sins can hide behind the truth. Since her stroke, her short term memory has been hazy, but Curtis helped her fill in some of the blanks, and it leaves her ashamed and embarrassed. Not only was she way out of line when she sat in judgement of Trina’s mother, but she made things so much worse by confronting her in public where Trina could overhear. Does Trina think she can find a way to forgive her? Trina says she still thinks there’s nothing to forgive. Stella says that’s very generous of her. She doesn’t think Trina’s mother feels the same way.

Curtis says, Trina is disappointed, but that’s only because Portia has always been a hero to her. Portia says, exactly, and now she’s failed Trina. He says, Portia didn’t fail her; she turned out to be perfectly human and capable of making mistakes. Sooner or later, shouldn’t every kid find that out about their parents? She says, some lessons are just too hard and painful, especially with Trina going off to college soon. What if they don’t get past this?

Phyllis and Lenny finish their dance, and take a bow, while Sonny and Nina applaud. Lenny is winded though, and Sonny asks if he’s okay. Lenny says he’s just a little out of practice, but Phyllis says he’s out of breath. She wants to take him home and put him to bed. He says, what did she just tell him; love means living. Nina says they can all drink to that, and Phyllis says, then let her take him outside while the sun’s still shining. He can put his feet up, she’ll pour him a nice glass of ice tea, and they can plan that trip they’ve been meaning to take. Lenny says, to the islands? and she says, no time like the present. They leave, arm-in-arm, and Sonny says, it might sound strange, but he envies those two. Nina says she gets it. Some people live a lifetime, and never find a love like that.

Carly asks if it’s a good idea to talk to Jax, and Jason says, if Jax has concerns, he wants Jax to deal with him, not her or Josslyn. She says, Jax was never a fan of Sonny’s. To him, Jason was the lesser of two evils. Jason says, not anymore. Moss bowl! Carly says, it was one thing when she and Jason were friends. Jax didn’t love it, but he tolerated it. Now everything’s changed. He thinks she’s picking Jason over her kids, and she’s putting her kids in danger for a chance to be with him. Jason says, that’s not true. It’s the exact opposite. They’re getting married because it’s the safest option. She says, right, and he says, it only works because of what they are to each other. She says she’s scared of how this is going to change things between them, and he says, it’s as new for him as it is for her. He takes her hand, and says, they’re just going to have to figure this out… together, okay? She says, yeah, and asks him to drop the box off at the community center for her, starting a honey-do list for him already. He takes the box, walks past the hallowed moss bowl, and Carly hugs Mrs. Trizzle to her chest.

Sonny asks why Nina is smiling, and she says she’s grateful that he reached out to her when he did when she was in Port Charles. Not just to help Phyllis and Lenny with the treatment costs, but she feels so blessed to be with them at this time. And him. No matter how much time they have left. He asks if she’s talking about Lenny and Phyllis, or her and him, and she says, why don’t they take a page out of Lenny’s book, and live every moment they’re given as if it were their last. He says, yeah, and kisses her.

Trina tells Curtis that his aunt would like to see him, and he goes into Stella’s room. Portia asks Trina how it went with Stella, and she says, no offense, but she thinks that’s between her and Miss Henry. Portia says she’s right. She almost has a college student on her hands. She’s sorry she keeps treating Trina like a little kid. And she’s sorry she hurt Trina by the choices she’s made in the past, her time with Curtis while she was still married to Trina’s father. Honestly, those are things she never wanted Trina to know, but now she does. Does Trina think she can find it in her heart to forgive her?

Spencer tells Josslyn, yes, there’s an actual party, as they will soon see for themselves. They sit, and Josslyn asks if it’s just going to magically appear on Spoon Island. What about his father? Spencer says, he’s off to Dubai on business. Is that gentleman with her? Josslyn says, that’s Devon. He’s there until Tony takes over. Spencer says, Tony? and she says, he’s an excellent bodyguard. Spencer asks if it doesn’t bother her having constant supervision, but she says, you get used to it. He says, tell him about it. His dad keeps a close eye on him too. He guesses it shows how much he cares.

Ava says Nikolas has lost so much time with his son. They’ve just begun to repair that relationship. Does he really want to jeopardize that based on one letter from Ryan and a questionable timeline? What if he’s wrong? He says he’s not. This is their shot, maybe their last shot, at unmasking the stalker, and finally putting their family back together. She says, but Spencer is part of that family, and he says he knows that, but Spencer’s no longer a child. His antics aren’t cute anymore. For his own sake, as well as theirs, Spencer needs to be stopped. She tells him, don’t take Spencer’s love for granted. Nikolas almost lost him once, and it nearly broke his heart. Don’t risk losing him again. He says, when this night is over, he won’t lose his son. He’ll have him back. The son he knows and loves, and he and Ava will finally be back together again.

Josslyn asks if Cameron is up for a party, and he says, try and stop him. Spencer says he’s in too. Let’s make tonight a night to remember.

Trina tells Portia, she had a talk with Ava. She thinks she should try and patch things up with Portia. Portia asks what Trina thinks about that advice, and Trina says, honestly, she’s not sure why she’s angry or who she’s mad at. She spent her whole life thinking one thing, and now she finds out there’s something she knew nothing about. It’s just a lot to process. Portia says she understands that, and Trina says, all she knows is, she missed Portia these past two days. Portia says she missed Trina too, and Trina says, tonight she’s hanging out with Spencer, Joss, and Cam, so she needs to get ready, but maybe they can talk later when she comes home. Portia says she’d like that, and Trina leaves.

Stella tells Curtis, she’s very impressed with Portia’s daughter. It seems she was raised right. She should have given Trina’s mother more credit. If Portia’s daughter is any indication, Portia must be a fine person. Curtis says, on that, they agree, and puts his hand on hers.

Jax tells Britt, he hated Sonny from the day he met him, but Jason was more difficult. In the beginning, he was misguided. He alienated himself from his family, and Sonny took Jason under his wing. But over the years, he watched Jason choose this life. He had plenty of opportunities to get out, but he didn’t, so the violence that follows him, even if it’s not of his own making, Jason is responsible for. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking he’s some kind of hero. He’s just not. She says, Jason is no longer a part of her life, but that doesn’t stop her from thinking he’s a good guy. He says, good guys don’t put his daughter at risk, and she says, don’t tell her that, tell him. Jax turns to see Jason in the doorway.

Nina says, there’s Lenny, playing Cupid with the playlist, and Sonny says, better not disappoint him. She says, okay, and they slow dance.

Carly tells Mrs. Trizzle that she doesn’t know what to do. Sonny was her life. Sonny’s gone, and she doesn’t know what the future holds with Jason. She just knows she can’t live in the past. She has to let go. Sonny appears, and says, that’s easier said than done. Carly smiles.

Tomorrow, Spencer asks who’s ready for some epic misbehavior, Sonny suggests he and Nina make long term plans, and Jax tells Jason to do the right thing, and end this before someone gets hurt.
