What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sasha yowls in pain, and Brando says, she’s got this. Easy for him to say. He tells her, they’re going to be a family, and she says she likes the sound of that.

Elizabeth sees Dr. Navarro, and says she’s been trying to track the doctor down. It’s Sasha Gilmore. She’s worried something is seriously wrong. She and the doctor take off for Sasha’s room.

Willow is punching the heavy bag, when Michael comes into the gym. She says she was just working out, and he says he could see that, but he’s never seen her hit the heavy bag before. She says, it’s her first time. She didn’t know what she was missing. Punching things can be fun. She hits it again.

Chase has a drink at Charlie’s, and flashes back on his conversation with Brook at Kelly’s; Brook explaining why she gave birth in a hotel. He says, the story doesn’t add up, and wonders what Brook is hiding.

Valentin tells Brook, if it was just him, fine. They could keep things the way they are. But there are two other people they have to think about; Charlotte and Bailey. For them, he needs to know. Bailey isn’t his, is she? Brook says, it’s so much more complicated than he thinks it is, and he says, she just has to look in his eyes and tell him Bailey is his daughter. She cries, and says she’s so sorry. She can’t.

Maxie leaves Brook a voicemail to call her back. She needs to know Gladys hasn’t ruined everything. Nina comes out of the elevator, and Maxie asks what she’s doing there. Nina says, Elizabeth tipped her off that Sasha was in labor. What is it? Is it the baby? Maxie says she doesn’t know anything about Sasha or the baby, and Nina says, then what is it? Maxie says, her, and her plan to protect Louise from Peter. It’s falling apart.

At Rice Plaza, Sonny tells Carly, don’t worry about it. It was an accidental meeting; no one got hurt. She says, not tonight, but he got hurt. So did she. They’re whole family was hurt. Doesn’t he get that? Why is he defending Nina? He says he’s not defending Nina. He knows everyone got hurt. He’s just preventing any more hurt now that it’s over. She says, it’s not over, and it’s never going to be over as long as there are no consequences for what Nina did. He gets that, right? Please help her understand here.

Obrecht asks Peter, at what point is he going to admit they’re hopelessly lost? He asks when she’s going to shut her mouth, and she says, so that’s a never? He says he knows what he’s doing, and Britt asks, what’s going on? Obrecht looks at the ceiling, and says, it’s dangerously unstable.

Jason tells Drew, they have a problem, and Drew says, just one? Jason says he’s seen the island from a satellite view, and knows the tunnels exist… Drew says, but as far as which ones he used… Jason says he has no idea where Peter went. Drew crouches down and looks at something. He points and says, they used this one. Jason asks how he knows, and Drew says, Jason might be an expert hitman, but he’s had a little experience tracking people during his time in the Navy. His contribution to this little adventure. Jason tells him, lead the way.

Obrecht says, one false move, or a particularly loud noise, and they’ll all be buried alive. Peter asks if her dire warnings are intended to discourage him, but she says, they’re intended to save his life. Britt tells him to listen to her mother. Peter might hate Obrecht, but he knows she’s smart. Obrecht thanks her, and Peter says, she’s determined to stop him. She’ll tell any lie to slow them down. Britt says, she’s not lying about the loose dirt. Think about it. This island belongs to the Cassadines. He says, so? and she says, so, they’re not well-known for planning. They want a tunnel, they dig a tunnel. They don’t think about shoring it up, or maintaining it for that matter. Obrecht says, the Cassadines came there during the Russian Revolution; this tunnel could be more than a hundred years old. Britt says she knows Peter is arrogant, but even he can’t argue with geology, and gravity. They have to leave.

On the phone, Chase says he knows he’s still on desk duty, but was hoping they could do him a solid, and look something up for him… Awesome. He needs the E-Z Pass record for Brook Lyn Quartermaine’s vehicle on May 27th of this year… Yeah, he’ll hold.

Brook says she’s so sorry she lied to Valentin, but he says he needs to hear her say the words. She says, Bailey isn’t his daughter. She never meant for this to go on for so long. He says for months and months and months she watched him pour his heart into that little girl. She says she’s sorry. She thought it would be over before Valentin fell in love with Bailey, and he says he was in love with her the moment he knew she existed. His child is everything to him. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone look sadder than he looks right now.

Maxie tells Nina, and now, Gladys is going to open her big mouth and tell Valentin that Bailey isn’t his. Nina says, she could have told Maxie this wouldn’t end well, and Maxie says, too late. Nina says she’s sorry, and Maxie says, maybe there’s no reason to panic yet. Gladys doesn’t know everything. She doesn’t know Bailey is really Louise. Nina says, the crucial information is contained, and Maxie says, this could be a good thing, right? Nina was the one who tried to convince her to let Valentin in on the secret. He could actually be an ally. Nina says, she did, but… and Maxie says, she knows. It’s going to be a huge blow finding out Bailey isn’t his. Nina says, monumental, and Maxie says, after he processes it, and realizes she and Brook only did this to protect Louise from Peter, he’ll want to help her. He’ll understand. Wouldn’t it be great? Nina says it would, but she’s afraid it’s highly unlikely.

Sonny says, Carly has to understand. There’s been so much pain in their family in the last year… She says she knows, but the pain isn’t going to go away because Nina has a relationship with Wiley, and clearly, she’s going to stake her claim as his grandmother. So accidental or not, this just proves Michael was right to have charges pressed against Nina in Pennsylvania. Sonny says, if Michael had asked him, he would have said Michael was just making things more complicated. She says she doesn’t get it; this isn’t him. One thing they’ve always agreed on is, if someone comes at them, they’ll come back twice as hard to make sure nobody comes at them again. She’s not talking about sending a message. She’s talking about justice. Why would he deny himself or his family that kind of justice after what Nina did to him? He says, because if they destroy Nina, he would be denying who he had become.

Sasha squeezes Brando’s hand, and he tells her, just breathe. The doctor comes in with Elizabeth, and says she heard things are progressing in here. Brando says, looks like it, and Sasha says, feels like it too. Dr. Navarro says she’d like to run some tests, and do an ultrasound to see how things are going, and Sasha asks if everything is okay. The doctor says, that’s what she wants to confirm, and Brando says, whatever she thinks is best. Dr. Navarro asks Elizabeth to prep Sasha, and they leave. Brando tells Sasha, it’s going to be okay.

Drew says, it looks like they stood around for a while, and then met someone; there’s extra boot prints. Jason says, they probably picked up a guard, and Drew says they have a problem. This tunnel is in really bad shape. Jason says he noticed, and Drew says, loud noises, like, let’s say, gunfire, up the chances of a total collapse. Every gunshot is going to make this place more unstable.

Michael asks Willow, what brought on the sudden urge to go at the bag like that? He thought she was taking Wiley to the Fall Fair in Rice Plaza. She says she did take him. That’s what brought on the sudden desire for a workout. Nina was there. He asks if Nina approached her, but she says, Wiley made the first move. He saw her, wanted to go to her, and she let him. Go ahead. Tell her how much he hates that. He says he hates the idea of Nina being anywhere near their son, but he wasn’t there, so… She says, thank you. She tried keep it lowkey. She and Wiley had a hot chocolate with Nina, then she sent Wiley off with Cindy, who he knows from daycare at the hospital. When she and Nina were alone, she told Nina that she hates what she did, and didn’t think she should see Wiley for the time being, but she wasn’t going to confuse Wiley by dragging him away, and punishing him for Nina’s bad choices. He asks how Nina took it, and she says, Nina was appropriately remorseful. At the same time, she doesn’t think Nina even begins to grasp how selfish and horrible she was, or how much damage she’s done. When Cindy brought Wiley back, all she wanted to do was take him home, and just as they were saying their goodbyes, Carly showed up and jumped to the wrong conclusion. He asks, how wrong? and she says, Carly was going to call the cops on Nina for stalking Wiley. He says, go, mom, since he’s a big jerk, and Willow says, no. He says he knows it made a bad situation worse, but he can enjoy the fantasy, can’t he? She says, sure; he can enjoy it. He wasn’t the one in the middle of Rice Plaza, trying to stop his mom from having Nina dragged away in handcuffs in front of Wiley. She needs more time on the heavy bag. He says, actually, he has a better idea.

Dr. Navarro does the ultrasound, and says, looks like it’s time to get moving. She tells Elizabeth to have the OR prepped right away, and Brando asks if something is wrong. Sasha asks if there’s something wrong with the baby, and the doctor says they need to prep her for an emergency C-section. Sasha says, no, she’s fine, but then cries out in pain. Dr. Navarro says she knows it wasn’t their plan, and under normal circumstances, they’d do everything they could to avoid surgery, but she’s having pain from a placental disruption, and the baby needs to come out now.

Chase sees Bobbie come into Charlie’s, and says, it’s good to see her. She asks him to excuse her for making a beeline to the coffee, but she’s headed to Rice Plaza. She just came off a double-shift at GH. Where everyone is raving about his wife, by the way. He says he thinks she means ex-wife, and she says, that’s why she needs caffeine; she’s so sorry. He tells her, that’s okay, and she says, clearly, her mind isn’t as sharp after a long day. For the record, she loves that Willow makes Michael happy, but she hates that he got hurt in the process. He’s a good man, and he’s been a particularly good friend to Maxie and Lulu. He says he hopes the coffee works its magic, and she goes to the bar to order a large coffee to go. His phone dings, and he looks at it, and says, Beecher’s Corners? What’s she doing there? Bobbie says, she doesn’t know who he’s referring to, but Beecher’s Corners happens to be a lovely place. He says, she’s been? and she says, right before Memorial Day.

Brook says she knows Valentin is upset; he has every right to be. He tells her, don’t tell him how to feel, and identify. I hate when people do that. She says he has to understand; this was never her intention. He says he doesn’t care about her intentions. This is where they are now. When he thinks about the sleepless nights, and the stories they shared… She says, that was real, and he asks, how was it real? She says, because it happened, and he says she’s not who he thought she was. He doesn’t even know what she is. She watched as he bonded with this child. His twelve-year-old daughter thinks she has a sister, and for what? Some stock? The Brook he thought he knew would have never done that. She says, she didn’t.

Maxie says, Nina was the one who advocated for Maxie to tell the truth. Nina says, she did. If Maxie had told him months ago when she said that, she’s sure Valentin would have been supportive. Not only would he have kept the secret, he would have made sure it was airtight, but they made him fall in love with that baby… Just like she made Sonny fall in love with her. Maxie says, not ideal or advised, but when it comes to the truth, isn’t it better late than never? Nina tells her, that’s what people say, tell the truth, but she learned the hard way, they’re only talking about the immediate truth. Hidden truths become secrets, and those only leave pain and chaos in their wake.

Carly says she wants to understand what Sonny is going through, but he has to walk her through it. How can Nina facing justice for what she did to their family, be denying who he’s become? He closes his eyes for a moment, and says, he was gone for nine months, and at that time, he was living another life; they both were. He can’t just believe it’s going to go back to normal, and nothing’s changed. It’s hard for him. She says, things have gone back to normal. They’re the same people they were; they’re the same couple. He says, for the better part of a year, he was another person, and that time doesn’t just vanish from his mind. In Nixon Falls, he didn’t know about Sonny Corinthos, but here he knows he was Mike, and Mike’s still part of him. For nine months, what kept him alive, centered, and safe was the friendships he had with Lenny, Phyllis, and Nina. He just can’t change the fact that up until a couple weeks ago, Nina was… the one friend he had in the whole world.

Chase asks if Bobbie was in Beecher’s Corners on vacation, and she says she supposes there’s no reason to be keeping it a secret at this point. She was supposed to meet Maxie there. He says, like a final hoorah before he baby was born? but she says, not exactly. Maxie had figured out the truth about Peter, but she knew if she tried to end the relationship, there would be… issues. He says, that’s putting it mildly, and she says, Maxie asked her there in a professional capacity. He says, as a nurse? and she says, yeah. The plan was for her to deliver Maxie’s baby in secret.

Brook said this took her by surprise too, but Valentin tells her not to compare their experiences; they’re nothing alike. She says she’s just trying to explain herself. It started off with, oops, I’m pregnant, and Valentin thinks he’s the father. He says, she led him to believe he was the father, and she says, she did something she’s not proud of. She used the situation to her advantage so she could get ELQ back. She was clueless. She had no idea how he’d be as a father or as a partner. She thought he’d just give her child support and leave. He says, which, if she’d accepted, would have been fraud, but go ahead. She asks if he remembers how opposed she was to him moving in. Why does he think that was? What started off as a stupid means to an end, ended up with him and his daughter moving in with her family; their family. The four of them. She thought, what was she doing? but it was too late. Then Gladys found out the truth and started blackmailing her. She had no choice. She never intended to hurt him.

Obrecht tells Peter, congratulations; this is new. She doesn’t suppose Peter knows where they are. He says, for the millionth time, stop talking, or he will kill one of them. Britt asks Obrecht to stop antagonizing Peter, but Obrecht says she’s not; she’s telling him the truth. This whole place could come crumbling down at any time, and this dummkopf is leading us nowhere. Brittwas right; they must turn back. Peter says, no. They’re getting the hell out of here, going to the harbor, and getting on a boat. Then they’re going to the rendezvous point where Drew will be bringing Maxie to him. Drew says, that’s not going to happen, and Peter sees Drew in front of him. holding a gun aimed at him.

Dr. Navarro explains that the placenta is separating from the uterus. Sasha says, when? and the doctor guesses it happened when her water broke. Sasha says, the placenta is how the baby eats and gets oxygen, and Dr. Navarro says that’s why they have to do the C-section. Brando asks if their son is okay, and the doctor says they’re doing everything int their power to make sure of that. She tells Sasha that they’ll give her an epidural, but she’ll be conscious, and Sasha says, just take care of the baby. The doctor says, the plan is to take care of both of them, and Sasha is wheeled out. Brando says, the doctor made a point of saying both of them. Is Sasha in trouble too? Level with him. Is Sasha’s life at risk too? She says, it’s too early to say, but a hemorrhage could be a complication, which is why they can’t waste time, She jets, and Brando follows.

Nina says, maybe it would help if she went with Maxie, and Maxie says, as in, he might go easier on her? Nina says, well, he won’t kill her because there’s a witness. It’s possible. They see Sasha being wheeled to the OR, and go over to Brando. Nina asks if Sasha is okay, but he says, no. She could lose the baby and he could lose them both. Nina and Maxie hug him.

Peter asks what the hell Drew is doing here, and Drew says he’s taking Britt and her mother off this island, but if he kills Peter in the process, that’s just a bonus. Peter moves for his own gun, and Drew shoots him in the arm. Jason joins them, and there’s gunfire between them and the guards, Britt and Obrecht ducking down. There’s one guard remaining, and he puts up his hands. Drew asks how Jason wants to handle him, and asks the guard if what Peter is paying him is worth dying for. The guard throws his gun down, and Drew tells him, get out. He wisely does, and Jason asks if they’re okay. Britt says, they are now, and runs to Jason, hugging him. She steps away and says, that’s a perfectly normal response; she’s happy he’s not dead. Drew asks, where’s Peter? but he’s gone.

Michael wears punching mitts, while Willow punches, and she says she hates being stuck in the middle. It would be so much easier if Nina moved far away, like New Zealand, or at least California. He says, prison works, but she says, even if Nina goes to prison, she’ll still have legal rights as Wiley’s grandmother. He says, it will be hard exercise those rights in prison, but she says, Nina has money and lawyers, and if she lands in prison, she’ll have nothing but time. Think about it. Does he really want to take Wiley to visit Nina in some prison visiting room? He says, of course (🍷) not, and she says, the fact is, Nina will always be Wiley’s grandmother, unless she chooses to sever those ties. An all-out visitation war over Wiley can only hurt him. For Wiley’s sake, she just wants to find a way for them to co-exist. Is that so impossible to understand? he says he does understand; he just doesn’t agree. Willow throws some more punches.

Chase says, Maxie didn’t want to have her baby in the hospital? and Bobbie says, it wasn’t so much about the venue . He says, because of Peter, and she says, Peter was watching her like a hawk at the time. Her guess is, Maxie wanted to keep her options open. He says, her guess? and she says, all Maxie told her was that she was determined not to let Peter raise her baby. So if that meant going on the run or putting Louise up for adoption… The best laid plans, right? All that strategizing to try and keep Peter away from her baby, and now Maxie has no idea where she is. She tells Chase, it’s good to see him, but she’s got to go. Bobbie leaves, and the wheels turn in Chase’s head.

Valentin cries, and says he’s devastated. He just doesn’t know how else to put it. He loves Bailey so completely, and if he’s not her father, what does he do with that? He wanted to watch her grow up so bad. Brook says he can still do that, and he says, as what? He’s not her father. He wonders how he’s going to tell Charlotte, and she says, they’ll do it together, but he says, no! He doesn’t want her anywhere near his daughter. She says, please, and he says, let him and Charlotte mourn what she’s stolen from them, and then he’ll mourn her too. This is heartbreaking.

Carly says she knew that Nina was a presence in Nixon Falls, for months, and of course (🍷) Sonny saw her. But this is the first she’s hearing that he considers Nina his friend. He says she’s not his friend; he didn’t say that. When he didn’t know who Nina was, or what she’d done to his family… When he was Mike… He takes her hand, and Bobbie runs into the plaza. She says she’s sorry she’s late. She ran into… She asks if she’s interrupting, but Sonny says, they have plans, right? He tells Carly he’ll see her later, and leaves. Bobbie asks if everything is okay, but Carly says she doesn’t know.

Still in the ring with Willow, Michael says Nina is counting on her to co-exist, and put her mistakes in the past. That way, when anyone approaches her, and holds her accountable, like him or his mom, they’re unreasonable, vindictive. She flips the script and goes from being a borderline psycho, liar, someone who kept his dad a virtual prisoner for nine months… He doesn’t want to go down this rabbit hole. He doesn’t want to waste this moment with her. She’s beautiful, and sweaty, and throwing punches. He doesn’t want to waste that on anyone, least of all, Nina. Willow says, who? and he says, exactly. He doesn’t want to think about the things he hates, and miss the thing he loves, standing right in front of him.

Brando tells Maxie and Nina that he’s terrified. What if they can’t get to the baby in time? Maxie says, he can’t think like that, and Nina says, Maxie’s right. Sasha is incredibly resilient. Maxie says, and so is he. You know what that means? His baby is a badass too. Nina asks if they’ve found baby names yet, and he shakes his head. She says, Badass Corbin has a nice ring to it. I actually like that one. Brando guesses he should head to the OR, and Maxie asks if she can walk with him. She’s had an emergency C-section, so maybe she can tell him what to expect. He says he’d appreciate that, and Nina says, please keep her updated. And tell Sasha that she loves her. They leave, and Nina leans against the wall, looking sad.

Everyone bustles around, prepping for Sasha’s surgery. Dr. Navarro comes in, and gets gloved up. Sasha looks worried. Yikes! We see them cut into her.

Valentin says he admired Brook. He felt lucky, like they were kindred spirits; like they understood one another. And she was gracious to Charlotte. He thought she would be a good influence to her, but he was wrong. It was all a lie. Smoke and mirrors. That’s all she is. She saw the damage she was doing, and stood by and did nothing. She just let it roll, and go on and on… She says, that’s not what happened. There’s a huge piece of this that he doesn’t understand.

Obrecht says, that schwein Peter must have run away in all the commotion. Jason says, they know he’s not headed to the house, and Obrecht says, he doesn’t know where he’s headed. He was hopelessly lost. Britt asks how Jason and Drew found them, and Jason says, Drew was able to track them. Obrecht says, of course (🍷), and tells Drew, congratulations on overcoming the conditioning. Drew says, the credit goes to Jason, but Jason says, actually, the credit goes to Britt. She found a way to give him the card from Peter. Britt hugs Jason again, and Obrecht says she was just trying to be inclusive. Jason asks if Drew can pick up Peter’s trail; they have to find him. Drew asks if Obrecht and Britt can find their way back, and Obrecht says, one of her minor PhDs was in geology. These tunnels are the brink of collapse. Drew says, that gunfire didn’t help the situation, and Obrecht said, it made it exponentially worse. If they want to get out alive, the need to go now. They start to walk, and Jason looks behind them. He says, get down, and Peter starts shooting at them.

Bobbie says she’s not trying to pry, but Carly says, she needs Bobbie to pry. Bobbie says she’s concerned. Everything’s so tense between Carly and Sonny. Is it awkward because of what happened with Carly and Jason? Carly says, no. They talked about that, and they’re all on the same page. It’s got nothing to do with Jason. Bobbie says, that is a relief. Take it from her, there’s nothing worse than feeling like there’s a third person in your marriage.

Michael says he and Willow are so lucky to have each other, and Wiley. They should just focus on that, be here and now, and not worry about anything else. She says, at least not until the next time Nina comes calling. What if she shows up on Thanksgiving; just drops by to give something to Wiley? He says, what if Wiley’s not home? What if he’s in New York City with them? She says, they’re going to New York City? and he says, they could. Has she ever been to the Thanksgiving Day Parade? She says, not in person, and he says, this could be the year. The three of them could go to the parade, Rockefeller Center, Central Park. She asks if they could go see a show, and he says, any show she wants. Her pick. She says, are they really doing this? and he says, let’s get away from this miserable situation, and have an amazing Thanksgiving weekend. All she has to do is say yes. She says, yes, and hugs him. Believe me, the parade’s not all it’s cracked up to be in person. You have to get there before the crack of dawn, the balloons don’t look so perfect, and are a little scary hanging over you, it’s crowded, and the lip-syncing is even more obvious. And if it’s cold, you’ll feel like you’re never going to be warm again after standing on that cement. However, if you can find a place inside along the route to observe, maybe with mimosas and bagels, take that opportunity.

Nina goes into Charlie’s, and tells bartender Johnny that she’s mixing it up today, and orders a vodka soda with lemon. She flashes back to telling Sasha that she’s going to make a fantastic mother, and Sasha saying it would be due to Nina, who’d shown her what it looked like to be a kind, loving mother. Even after Nina knew what Sasha had done, she still showed Sasha compassion. Nina asks Johnny if Phyllis is out, and he says, she stepped out, but she’ll be back soon. Nina starts to take her drink to a table, when Sonny walks in.

Wearing surgical gear, Brando runs into the OR. He tells Sasha that he’s right here, and asks how she is. She says, numb, and he says, she’s the bravest person he’s ever met. Dr. Navarro says, this is it; it’s time for their baby to be born. She tells Sasha that she might feel pressure, and Brando says, she’s got this. The doctor says, he’s here, and holds the baby up. Sasha says, oh my God, and Brando says, their first son. The baby is hustled to the corner of the room, and everyone gets busy there. Brando asks, what happened? What’s wrong with their baby?

Brook says, is she a screw up? Yes. Is she shortsighted and selfish? 100%, but there’s a legitimate reason she couldn’t tell him the truth. Chase knocks and walks in, and Valentin says, just in time. Chase asks, what for? and Valentin says, the latest bombshell. It turns out Brook’s been lying to him. He’s not Bailey’s father after all. Chase says, he’s aware, and Valentin says, Brook told him? She says, never. She didn’t tell anyone. Chase says he knows Valentin isn’t Bailey’s father, because he is.

Jason shoots back at Peter, and Obrecht tells him to stop shooting. He tells Drew. get them out of here, and Drew tries, but Britt is resistant. Peter and Jason shoot at one another, and the ceiling starts to crumble, falling on Jason. Britt screams for him, and Drew holds her back.

On Monday, Chase says he’ll never forgive Brook for this, Robert wants any excuse to shoot, everyone lies in the rubble on Cassadine Island, and Sasha is hemorrhaging.

🧺 Alice Has Left the Building…

What an untimely shame. She was so funny on GH! Be sure to check out the tribute where there’s a video of Alice kissing Dobson, who was really Alexis. She will be missed.

🔬 Oh Brad…

Apparently, he had some haters, but I’m thrilled he’s coming back.

🦃 Talking Turkey…

Soaps airing or not on Thanksgiving. Why GH is choosing to air a rerun from February is beyond me, when they have their choice of classic pizza-for-Thanksgiving episodes.

The latest on Erika. I don’t believe for a second, if another rich dude came along, she wouldn’t jump at the chance to get married again. Although she’d probably be a lot smarter.

📩 Ain’t Too Proud…

Even if true, it’s kind of old news. I guess she’s too busy with the new fiancé to pick a new fight.

🎭 Naturally Entitled…

I have never once seen any audience member put a drink on a Broadway stage. It’s a play, not a singles bar. Even worse is walking back from intermission mid-act. Too bad they didn’t make her stand at the back of the theater, which would be their call.

🍑 To NeNe Or Not To NeNe…

I’m surprised he hasn’t spoken about this on Vanderpump Rules. He plugs everything else about himself.

This is kind of funny. Like when someone is drunk, and they’re trying real hard to keep you from knowing. In other words. It’s a fail.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At The Savoy, Curtis tells Nika that he just got confirmation the party is on their way. She says she can’t believe three guys booked the club for the whole night. He says, believe it, and tells her to make sure the drinks are filled and everyone is having a good time. Sam comes in, and tells Curtis that she has news about Drew’s plane crash. He suggests they go someplace else, and she says they don’t have to go anywhere; it won’t take long. He says he might not have to, but she might want to.

Dante sits at the MetroCourt bar, when Olivia comes in. He says he didn’t think she was working tonight, and she says she’s not. She’s on her way to Carly’s bachelorette party. She’s helping set it up, and has a surprise that’s going to blow Carly’s mind. So, is he seeing Sam tonight?

On the phone, Brando tells his boss that he’ll do what he’s paid for. Doesn’t he always?

Sasha sees Willow arriving at the party by the pool (🍷), and says she wasn’t sure Willow was going to be there between nursing school, Wiley, and everything else she’s got going on. Willow says, when Olivia invited her, she decided she was going to treat herself to a break. She doesn’t know if anyone told Sasha, but there’s definitely good news; Chase can walk again. Sasha says, fantastic, and Willow says she’s so happy for him. Sasha asks if something else is going on, and Willow says, Chase learned she and Michael were together before they could tell him themselves. Sasha says she’s so sorry, and Willow says she put off telling Chase, and only ended up hurting him worse. Sasha says, it was an impossible situation; she did the best she could. If Chase doesn’t realize that now, she’s sure he will eventually in time. Please tell her that she and Michael are happy. Willow says, very happy. What about Sasha and the baby? Sasha says, the baby is fine, and Willow says, and the mommy? Sasha says she’d feel better if she knew for certain Brando isn’t working for the mob again. Josslyn and Bobbie come by, and Josslyn says, Carly is on her way. Bobbie tells them to get ready, and Carly walks in. They yell, surprise!

Curtis tries to steer Sam away, and she asks, what is this? Why is she suddenly not welcome there? He says he’ll explain it later, but right now he has to get her out of there. Spinelli comes in with Michael, saying, a proper sendoff is in order, and a proper sendoff he shall have, and Michael says, it’s what his dad would have wanted. Spinelli sees Sam, and says, greetings and salutations, fair Samantha. Forgive him for asking, but what is she doing there? She asks if she’s not supposed to be there, when Jason walks in. Curtis says, this is why he wanted her out of there, and Michael tells Jason, one drink, a couple of toasts, and they’re gone. Spinelli says, maybe two drinks… Okay, one drink is acceptable. The point is to celebrate Jason’s nuptials. Jason looks trapped.

Phyllis sees the outside table, and tells Mike/Sonny, it looks lovely; like an outside café. They could be in Paris instead of Nixon Falls. He says it was his idea. His first official date with Nina. She asks how it went, and he says, it was great… until they ran into a roadblock. He doesn’t think there’s any way around it.

Ava asks what Jax could possibly have to say to her about Nina, and he says, it’s about his visit to her in Nixon Falls. She says she heard the highlights. He played the hero, and two robbers got shot in the process. He says he stopped one of the robbers, and Nina’s new boyfriend stopped the other. She says, the mysterious new boyfriend. The one who replaced him. Jax asks what Ava knows about him.

Spinelli says, libations are certainly in order. Can they head to the bar? Sam asks if she can speak to the man of the hour, and Jason tells Spinelli to order him a beer. Michael urges Spinelli toward the bar, and Sam tells Jason, tomorrow’s the big day. He says, it is, and she says she’s sure the wedding will be everything he and Carly want. He says, Maxie is working on it, and she says she’s sure Maxie is. She wishes them all the best. He thanks her, and says he wishes the same for her. He goes to the bar, and Curtis asks if Sam is okay. She says she will be. She’s had a lot of time to digest that Carly and Jason are getting married. Carly has always been really important to Jason, so was Sonny. Most of the time, Jason chose Carly first. Now he doesn’t have to choose anymore.

At the bar, Spinelli says, it never occurred to him that fair Samantha might be there, and Jason says, it’s fine. Michael says, it’s still pretty awkward. Jason didn’t want a bachelor party in the first place. Jason says, actually, he was wrong. He and Carly are getting married tomorrow; it deserves to be celebrated. They clink glasses.

Carly says, oh my God. How did she not know they were planning this? Josslyn says they fooled Carly Corinthos, and Carly says, Olivia told her that the pool (🍷) was reserved for a Sweet 16 birthday party. Bobbie says they didn’t want her to know what they were up to, and they wanted to tell her they love her. Josslyn adds, and how happy they are she’s marrying Jason, and Carly says, so there’s no imaginary Sweet 16 party she has to take care of? Josslyn says, all she needs to do is relax and enjoy herself, and Carly says, with her favorite people there, how could she not? Carly says, it’s so lovely, and Josslyn says, and exciting. It’s the day before her wedding day. Carly says she’s starting to feel like a real bride, and Bobbie asks why she’d say that. Of course (🍷) she’s a real bride.

Sonny tells Phyllis that Nina said she doesn’t want to get closer to him until he finds out who he is. She said when he finds out who he is, he’s not going to want to see her anymore. (That’s not exactly what she said, but okay.) What does he do with that? She says, his feelings for Nina are real. That has to count for something. Nina comes in, and asks Phyllis how she is. Then she says, that’s a really dumb question. Forget she said that. Phyllis says, she’ll always be grieving for Lenny, but she knows he wouldn’t want her life to stop. He’d want her to live it to the fullest; to find joy where she can. And since he’s not there to ask Nina, she’ll ask for him. Why can’t the two of them simply live in the moment?

Jax asks Ava to please tell him everything she knows about Nina’s new boyfriend in Nixon Falls, and she says, jealousy doesn’t become him. And she’s certainly not going to confide in the man who conspired to keep from Nina the death of her daughter; a daughter she didn’t even know she had, and is now dead. He says she can’t even imagine how sorry he is for his actions, but believe it or not, he’s trying to help Nina now. She tells him, just go. They’re done here. He flashes back to Josslyn telling him that the sauce is exactly like Sonny’s, and Trina picked it up in a bar in Nixon Falls. He says he’s not leaving until Ava gives him some answers.

Dante asks how many times he has to tell Olivia, his personal life is just that – personal. She says he is seeing Sam, and she thinks that’s great. He says he’s glad she thinks it’s great. They’re meeting there to investigate something. She says, right, and he says, stop. She says she’ll leave him to it. She has to make sure everything is right for Carly’s party, especially the entertainment. It’s going to be such a surprise. She leaves, and Brando comes out of the elevator, carrying a duffel bag. He asks Dante how it’s going, and Dante says, no complaints. He congratulates Brando on becoming a father, and Brando asks if he’s got any tips. Dante says, don’t mess it up. Brando laughs, and Dante says just do the best he can; trust his instincts. Brando says he met Rocco a few times while Sonny was still with them. He seems like a great kid. Dante says, he is a great kid. He’s excited to have a cousin on the way. Sonny would have loved to be there to see Brando become a father. Sasha approaches them, and asks what Brando is doing there. Dante says he’ll see them, and jets. Brando says he’s there on a job, and she says, one of those side gigs he mentioned? He says, one of them, and she asks if he’s going to tell her which one. He says he’s making sure the baby has whatever he or she needs, and then some once it’s born. She says just promise her whatever he’s doing is not mob related, and he says, trust him. He thought she was supposed to be at Carly’s bachelorette party, and she says she was taking a break to powder her nose, which is probably a poor choice of words for her. He says, Carly’s party is there? and she says, out by the pool (🍷). Call her later after his mysterious side gig. She leaves, and Dante comes back. Brando tells Dante that he has a problem.

Sam says she found out some information on Drew’s plane crash that she thinks Curtis will find interesting, and he says, information is only as good as the source. She says she and Dante were able to get ahold of the WSB files on Drew’s plane crash, and it was a charter flight, not a private rental. And there was another passenger on board, but the name wasn’t listed. It was paid for by a company called Leethy Unlimited. He wonders why the name sounds familiar, and she says, because it was the parent company for a clinic in Scarsdale called Creighton-Clark. He says he knows that name from somewhere, and she says, it burned down before he came to Port Charles, but Drew was held captive there, and Nina was a patient, along with a lot of other people. He says he knows where he heard the name from; when he was searching for Nina’s daughter. She asks if he knows anybody who worked there, and he says he just might.

Spinelli says he’s so glad to be out socializing. It’s a welcome break from heartache. Ellie is adamant that their parting be permanent. He asks Michael to please tell him that he’s luckier in the romance department, and Michael says he hates to break it to Spinelli, but he is luckier. He and Willow are together, and they couldn’t be happier. Spinelli says he’ll drink to that.

Olivia tells Willow, talk to her. There’s obviously a huge change in her relationship with Michael. Brook implied that there were some developments, but she wouldn’t go into any details, so she came to the source. What’s going on? Willow says it’s very complicated, and she definitely could have handled things better. She suggests they talk in the next day or two; after Carly’s party. Olivia says, just so she’s clear, Willow and Michael are a couple? Willow says they are, and Olivia says, Chase is a great guy, but between the two of them, she always thought Willow and Michael belonged together. Willow says, they agree. It just took them a while to figure it out. Olivia says Willow looks happy, and she’s happy for her, and they hug.

Carly tells Bobbie that she can’t wait to marry Jason. It’s just been a whirlwind trying to get everything ready. Bobbie asks if that’s all it is, and Josslyn says her mom’s been really busy. Yes, Maxie’s planning the wedding, but there’s still a million details to sort out and decisions to make. She’s helping Josslyn get set up at PCU, there’s dissention with her dad… Bobbie asks if Carly and Jax are at odds, and Carly says, really? They’re supposed to be having fun. Why did Josslyn bring that up? Josslyn says, sorry. She should have kept her mouth shut. Her mom and dad fight all the time, and they always work it out.

Jax tells Ava that he still cares about Nina. Knowing he hurt her is bad enough. He doesn’t want to see her get hurt again. Ava asks what he wants to know, and he asks, when was the last time she spoke to Nina? She says she doesn’t hear from Nina all that often. Just a text here and there, about how happy she is. He says, with her new boyfriend? and she says, Nina doesn’t really say very much. Last time she and Nina had a heart-to-heart, Nina was pretty evasive about him.

Phyllis says, right before Lenny’s diagnosis, he’d decided to live in the moment. He was going to take her dancing. She was on her way to buy a new dress when Dr. Ford showed up, and their lives changed. Sonny says he’s going to do everything he can to honor Lenny’s memory. Phyllis says she knows he will, and she hopes Nina tries to do that too. She leaves, and Sonny asks where Nina was. He was trying to reach her. She says she’s sorry she ran out on him, and he says they’re supposed to be living in the present. She says, he is, but she’s still struggling. When she saw his watch last night, a piece of his past, it made her stop and think for once. He asks if she came to any conclusions. Does he have to find out who he is in order for her to move forward with him?

Carly, who is now wearing a tiara, tells Olivia that she’s sneaky, and Olivia tells her, what can she say? She was motivated. What’s the point of renovating the pool (🍷) if they’re not going to use it? She wanted to wish Carly happiness; no one deserves it more than her. Carly says, that’s sweet, but Olivia says she’s not sweet. Neither is Carly. They tell it like it is. It was the first thing she liked about Carly. Carly says, since they’re telling it like it is, she thought Olivia would think it’s too soon after Sonny. Olivia says, if it were anybody else, she would think they were acting out of grief, or afraid to be alone. She would have been wrestling with herself; should she say something or keep her big mouth shut? But Carly has known Jason forever, and knows what she’s getting. She’s getting a Quartermaine for an in-law – Olivia hands her a drink – so good luck with that. Carly says they’re Olivia’s in-laws too. They’ll be allies. They clink glasses, and Olivia says, always.

Willow asks if Sasha is okay, and Sasha says she ran into Brando in the restaurant. He’s on the job, but woudn’t tell her what it is. Willow asks if she thinks he’s with the mob again, when Carly interrupts, saying, he’s not. Brando made it very clear that he is done. Sasha says, there was a part of Brando that liked the excitement working undercover for Sonny. What if he’s revisiting that part of his life? Getting in deep again, under the guise of wanting to support her and the baby.

Dante says, Brando is kidding, and Brando says he wishes he were. Dante laughs, and Brando asks if he has any advice. Dante says he’s got to bite the bullet. Do what he was hired to do. Make that money. Pay for that baby. Brando asks if Dante can just arrest him, and Dante says, not unless he breaks the law.

Curtis tells Nika that he has some business to take care of, and asks if she’ll be okay by herself. She says, it’s all good, and he leaves. At their table, Michael says he knows Jason and his mom never expected to get to this place, but now that they’re here, he knows they’ll be good for each other. Spinelli says, perhaps it’s fate, destiny, and if it is, how wonderful that it’s Carly. Michael says, incoming, and Joey Novak walks in with several other guys. He says, here it is. Here’s the groom, and a bachelor party that’s crying out for some action.

Sasha says she told Brando that if he wanted to be in her life, and the baby’s, he couldn’t work for Carly and Jason anymore, and Carly says, he’s not. Sasha says she heard Carly and Brando at his garage the other night. He was promising to let her business associates know that he was open for business, and Carly thanked him for helping her. Carly says, Brando offered to listen, that’s all. He’s not going to put himself in danger. Sasha says, what if the danger shows up anyway? What if Brando just can’t say no? Carly says Brando is crazy about Sasha and the baby. She has to trust him. How can they have a family if she doesn’t? Olivia announces, the entertainment is here, and says, Owen, cut the lights. The lights dim, music plays, and Brando comes out in a tux, and dances around. Everyone is shocked, and he makes lovey-dovey shark eyes at Sasha.

Sam tells Dante, she let Curtis in on the information they got about Drew’s plane crash. She figured he’d want to know since he and Drew were such good friends. She mentioned Creighton-Clark to him, and he said it seemed familiar. Then he remembered he knew someone who worked there who might be able to give them more information about the clinic. He says, that’s great, and she says he hasn’t been listening to a word she said. He says he heard everything, but she says, no, he hasn’t. He apologizes, and says he was distracted. She says, about what? and he says, about what’s going on at the MetroCourt pool (🍷) right now, at Carly’s bachelorette party.

What’s going on is, Brando is still dancing, with the girls all egging him on. He comes closer, takes off his tie, and pulls Olivia out on the dancefloor. She dances around for a hot minute, and he goes back to his solo act, taking off his jacket. He comes back to the group, and Carly tries to cover Josslyn’s eyes, but Josslyn is like, no way. Brando rips his shirt off, and Josslyn says, nice abs. He’s actually a pretty good dancer. He dances with Olivia for a second, and goes to Sasha, dancing with her, all romantic. Brando rips off his pants, and he’s in tighty blackies. Everyone comes out to dance, except Sasha, and Brando motions for her to come.

Nika tells Joey and his pals, it’s a private party. They’ll have to come back another night. Joey says, oh come on. There’s plenty of room for them. They promise not to disturb the private party. Jason gets up, and tells Nika, he’ll take care of this. Joey says, like Jason took care of him? Strongarming his uncle into getting him out of the country. He walks to the bar, and says, a round of top-shelf whiskey for the room. He wants to toast the groom, since he won’t be at his wedding tomorrow. He’ll be in Siberia. One of his cronies says, isn’t he going to Poland? Joey says, to the groom, and to his gorgeous bride Carly, who is as hot as they come. Michael gets up, and says, that’s enough, and Joey says, Spinelli agrees with him, right? Carly Corinthos is quite the babe. I’m literally lol’ing, because these guys always sound like they’re from the 1940s. Spinelli (who also sounds like that) says, stop this vulgarity at once, and Jason puts his hand on Spinelli’s shoulder. He says, they were just on their way out, and Spinelli says, they were? Jason puts some money on the bar, and says, Joey and his friends are going to drink on him. He tells Michael and Spinelli, let’s go, and they head for the door. Joey says, hey Morgan. How does it feel to be hitting your dead boss’s wife? Is it good? Like you won a stuffed toy at the fair? Spinelli comes flying at Joey, says, you creep, and punches him.

At the pool (🍷), Brando comes back out, fully dressed, and the women all applaud. Brando says, honestly, he had no idea he was reporting to Carly. His boss just told him it was a party at the MetroCourt pool (🍷). Olivia says she’s the one who called the agency to hire the stripper. She had no idea it was him. Willow asks how badly he wanted to die when he saw all of them, and he says he was hoping the ground would swallow him up. Bobbie says, they’re glad it didn’t because he was really good. Sasha says she’s sure he needs a drink, and Josslyn hands him one, saying he deserves it. Sasha takes his hand and leads him away. Carly remembers when she and Jason almost kissed. Bobbie says, hey, is she okay? and Carly says, why wouldn’t she be? Who knew Brando was so gifted, right? Bobbie says she’s not urging any scandalous behavior where Carly’s daughter is present, but she thought Carly might relax, cut loose a little, considering she is marrying her best friend. Carly says, that’s true; she is. Bobbie asks, so what’s the problem?

Nina says, Mike/Sonny will never know how much she wants him in her life, but it doesn’t seem right that he can’t remember who he was before. He has flashes of that other woman, and he knows she means something to him. He says he doesn’t even know if that woman is real, and she says, he won’t know until he finds out who he really is. He says, he’s Mike. He’s the guy who cares about her. He gets that she doesn’t want his past life to come crashing down on her. She doesn’t want to be hurt again. That’s why she came to Nixon Falls, to let go of her past. She says, so he understands, and he says, yeah, and he’s going to do everything he can to prove to her that he does. He doesn’t know how he’s going to do it, but he will. Because he’s in love with her.

Ava tells Jax, Nina probably wants to keep the new part of her life separate from the old one. Does it really surprise him that Nina would want to make a fresh start with Mike? He says, Mike? Does he have a last name? She says she’s sure he does, but she doesn’t know what it is. He says, and she didn’t ask? Ava says, Nina has made an art of skillfully avoiding her questions about him. Now here’s Jax, interrogating her about a man neither of them has ever met. Does he want to tell her what this is really about?

Curtis calls Phyllis, saying, he’s not sure if she remembers him. She says, of course (🍷) she does. He’s the private investigator who tracked her down, and put her back in touch with Nina Reeves. How can she help him? He says, he’s not a private investigator anymore, but he’s looking into something for a friend. It involves the facility where she worked, when she was Nina’s nurse. She says, Creighton-Clark? and he says, that’s the one. Is she still in touch with anybody she worked with there? She says she wasn’t there long. Besides, she was a private nurse so she didn’t really know any of the staff. He says, maybe she can think on it and give him a call, and she says, wait. There is someone. He friended her on social media a while back.

Sam says, Olivia hired a stripper from an agency that happens to be Brando? That’s priceless. Dante says, he’s making some money for his baby, and she says she’s not laughing at him. She thinks he should be proud. She thinks there’s something really charming about a guy who will do whatever it takes to provide for his child. Dante would, woudn’t he? He says he’s thankful he has a job where he can keep his clothes on, she says, that is too bad. His phone dings, and he says, dammit. He has to go. Work. He hopes to see her again soon. She says he can count on it, and he leaves.

Jax tells Ava, he’s worried about Nina. That’s all. He knows Ava tried to steer her in the right direction when it came to Carly. Ava says she did try, but apparently Nina didn’t take her advice when it came to making nice with Carly. Apparently, she did the opposite. Jax asks what she means, and she says, something happened a long time ago. She was mad, and she told Carly that as a grandparent in the state of New York, Nina has the right to sue for visitation with Wiley. Shortly after that, Nina called Carly, and Carly was all fired up and went for the jugular. He says, that’s what Nina told her? and she says, words to that effect. Everyone knows that Nina was wrong to tell Wiley about Nelle. Nina knows it. She regrets what she did, but Carly is Carly. She rarely gives anybody a second chance. He says, believe him, he knows.

Sonny says he guesses he threw Nina a curveball. He’s sorry. It’s how he feels. He really couldn’t go another minute without telling her. She tells him, she doesn’t know what to say, and he tells her, she doesn’t have to say anything.

Brando asks if Sasha sees now why he was being mysterious about his new job. He didn’t think she’d be a fan of him dancing. It’s just one of his side gigs. She asks, what are the others? Centerfold modeling? Escort service? He says, ha-ha. Try cleaning the deep fryer at Kelly’s, and after-hours custodial work at a bunch of offices downtown. He’s sorry if he embarrassed her tonight. She says she bets the money is good, and he says, it’s real good, but if she doesn’t like it, he’ll quit right now. What they have is a helluva lot more important than this performance tonight.

Willow says she hates herself for enjoying Brando’s performance so much, and Josslyn says, you and me both. Olivia says, in her day, it was empowering for women to go to a strip joint. The women could enjoy strip teases as much as the men. Willow says she can only imagine the men back then. The hair… Olivia says, the fake tan, the screaming women… Josslyn says it sounds like Olivia did a lot of clubbing, but Olivia says, bite her tongue. She was a good, Catholic girl. The only thing she knew about strip joints, and what went on inside of them, was what she read. They all laugh.

Bobbie says, when she thinks back on Carly and Jason when Michael was a baby, it was just the two of them. She used to get so frustrated with Carly at times, she wanted to tear her hair out. Jason was always good for her; he always believed the best in her. And to be fair, no matter how much the rest of them doubted her, she justified that faith. Now after all these years, they’re getting married. Tomorrow they’re going to slip into their new life as husband and wife. That’s the sweetest kind of love there is. Carly thanks her, and they hug.

Brando says he’ll call his boss right now, and tell him it’s his last gig as a stripper, but Sasha says, don’t you dare. Compared to working for Cyrus Renault, this is the safest job in the world. He says so she’s okay with women stuffing bills in his costume? She says, they can stuff as many bills as they want, as long as he always comes home to her.

Curtis asks who Phyllis’s friend was, and what he did at the clinic. She says, he worked in the records department. Would he be able to help Curtis? Curtis says, he just might. Text him the contact information, and tell him to expect Curtis’s call. She says, of course (🍷), and he says, if her friend can help, this could be a very big deal.

Michael gives Spinelli some ice in a cloth, and says, he did most of the heavy lifting… or should he say, heavy punching? Jason says, party’s over, let’s go, and heads for the door a second time. Nika is coming in, and he says, if what he left on the bar isn’t enough to cover everything, let him know. He’s sorry this happened on her watch. She says, she’s sorry, but once the fight started, she had to follow the rules. Spinelli says, what rules? and Dante walks in with some officers. A disheveled Joey gets up, and says he was raising a toast to Jason, and this little dweeb went off on him. Michael says Joey deliberately baited Spinelli, and Spinelli says he denigrated the bride-to-be. Joey says he did nothing of the kind. He was complimenting… Dante tells them, shut up, or he’ll take them all down to the station. Spinelli says, actually, they have a wedding to attend, and Dante says, maybe they’ll think more clearly in the morning.

Carly tells Bobbie, there was a time when all she wanted to do was marry Jason. She lied, she schemed, she left a trail of wreckage. Now years after she let that fantasy go, it’s happening. Bobbie says she and Jason have something magical, and Jason would do anything for her. Carly says, and she doesn’t know why that is; she never has (that makes two of us). She just knows that Jason has always been there for her. Even when he thinks she’s wrong, he’s there. Bobbie says he loves her as she deserves to be loved, and Carly says she’s a lucky woman. She’s a lucky bride.

Sonny takes Nina’s hand and says she doesn’t have to pretend she has feelings for him if she doesn’t have them. Maybe she will one day, maybe she won’t, but it feels good for him to tell her how he feels. So he’s going to leave her with that, okay? She says, okay, and he goes in the back.

Ava tells Jax, Carly and Nina must have been able to smooth things over, since Nina is seeing Wiley again, but she gets the sense it’s a fragile peace. Which is another argument for Nina to stay in Nixon Falls. She’s much less likely to cross paths with Carly there. He says, it certainly seems that way, and thanks Ava for taking the time to talk to him. He appreciates it. He starts to leave, and she asks what he’s going to do. He says, what can he do? Except make sure Nina is happy and safe.

Outside on the phone, Jax tells someone, get the jet ready. He’s going to Nixon Falls, Pennsylvania. Where I’m sure they have an airport.

On Tuesday (there’s a rerun on Labor Day – see below), Shawn tells Jordan that there has to be something to lead them to Hayden’s shooter, Nina asks Sonny what happened, and Ava is surprised.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

It was only a matter of time. I missed the beginning, but here are the highlights I gathered. At the dance, Sonny/Mike told Nina that Eli wasn’t all he was cracked up to be, but she didn’t want to hear it. Olivia met Dante at the hospital, thinking he could use seeing a friendly face after his session with Doc. He said he was glad she was looking out for him and Rocco. Maxie went to Nathan’s grave, wearing a widow’s disguise – i.e. big, dark glasses and a scarf – and told him what happened at the wedding. She said, now she felt trapped. Brook came to visit Chase, and he asked her to keep him company until Willow got back. Anna told Finn that Chase had been poisoned by Peter. Jordan came to see Carly, who told her that Cyrus had Florence back. Jordan asked Carly to let her do her job. That’s when I sat down to watch.

Phyllis tells Jax, when his call upset Nina, she took the phone, and asked him not to pressure her. He didn’t listen then, and him showing up there isn’t respecting Nina’s request now. If he thinks he’s going to sweet talk her into helping him, think again. They’re not off to a good start. He says he’s glad she and Lenny are looking after Nina, but Phyllis says, Nina doesn’t need looking after. She’s a strong, brilliant, beautiful woman. He says, that’s the reason he loves her, and Lenny says he’s about to get the tone. Phyllis says, he is. For someone who claims to love Nina, he sure broke her heart.

Sonny tells Nina, one more thing about Eli, then he’ll stop. She says, forever? and he says, for tonight. He looked into Eli’s failed business venture in San Francisco. She asks how he did that, and he says he made some calls. She asks, why? Eli was up front about losing his shirt, and Sonny says, it turns out, the real story is, Eli was arrested for embezzlement. His partners tried to press charges… Eli says the operative word is tried. The charges were dropped. Sonny says, Eli agreed to a settlement. He’s not a lawyer, but he thinks when you’re innocent, you do everything to clear your name, and Eli settled. Eli says a settlement costs less than a trial, and Sonny says, unless you’re guilty, and want it over with. Eli says it was over with until Sonny/Mike dug it up. They’re talking about something that happened 3000 miles away. What does he want? He asked questions, and Eli gave him honest answers, but that wasn’t enough. Sonny went poking thought his life to find something to embarrass him in front of Nina and his friends. Nina says Eli doesn’t have to talk about it, but Eli says he’ll bring it out in the open. It’s simple. He hit rock bottom, and made restitution. He came there to start over. Hasn’t Sonny ever derailed his life so bad that he bent over backward to get back on track? Oh, he forgot. Sonny doesn’t know what he’s done.

Brook says if she’s keeping Willow’s seat warm, that must mean Willow and Chase are back on track. Chase says, it seems that way. When he wakes up, she’s there, and she looks at him like you want someone to look at you when you wake up. It’s the only thing making this bearable. She says, points to Willow, and to any woman who can bring a smile to his handsome face.

Michael tells Willow, it’s getting harder for Chase to hide that he’s hurting, and she says she doesn’t understand. How did Chase get so sick so fast? They’re doing test after test, and still, no one knows what to do or where to start. Michael puts his head in his hands, and she asks if he wants to tell her what bothering him, or does she already know? He says he feels terrible. Chase is his friend, and he doesn’t want to hurt him… She says, but he wishes she’d told Chase, and he says he wishes she’d had the chance. It’s terrible, wishing Chase would get well, so they can break his heart. What does that say about him? She tells him, it says he’s an honest man in a terrible spot. She thinks, she hopes, that she’s honest and in the same spot. He says, being together as a couple, and spending time with Wiley in their home, he wants to be back there. She says she does too.

Finn asks what Anna is talking about. How did Peter poison Chase? Anna says, it was a special formula, and Finn says he’s going to kill Peter. She says, he can’t, but he says he’s a doctor, and knows how to kill someone a thousand different ways. As for the oath, do no harm, killing Peter will prevent a lot of harm. She says, hear her out. The first thing was, Valentin – Finn says, another name he’s sick of hearing – discovered Jason didn’t kill Franco; Peter killed Franco. He says, of course (🍷). Did Franco even do anything, or was Peter just bored? She says Franco was recovering Drew’s memories, and he says, another one of Peter’s victims. She says, she and Valentin were trying to put together Peter’s crimes, and Franco was remembering. Peter needed leverage. Finn asks what that has to do with Chase, and  she says, Peter wanted to stop them from bringing him to justice. He says, why poison Chase? and she says, it was an accident. Peter was trying to poison him.

Finn says, somehow Peter screwed up, and poisoned Chase? Anna says, Peter has an antidote that can keep Chase alive, if not cure him altogether, and Finn asks how he gets it. She says Peter crushed the vial in front of her, but she thinks it was just to get to her, and he must have a supply, but Peter’s plan can backfire. She gives Finn a plastic bag with the remains of the vial in it, and says Finn can analyze it, and create his own antidote. He looks at the bag, and says, the vial could have been full of water, another one of Peter’s lies. She says, maybe. What is he going to do? He says, call the cops, but she says, not if he wants Chase to live.

Brook asks Chase if they know what’s wrong yet, and he says, it’s not food poisoning, and it’s not infectious. They’re still doing tests. She says, he came in last night, and they still don’t know what’s wrong? He says he developed neuropathy; another symptom. Brook says she knows neuropathy is not just another symptom. She came to cheer him up, but his mysterious illness has kneecapped her. He says she’s still making him feel better, making his mysterious illness all about her. She says he’d tell her if anything was wrong more than it is, right? and he says he’s tired and achy, but he’s sure they’ll figure it out soon. She says she needs him to be okay. She’s got something going on. He asks if something is up with the baby, but she says, it’s not the baby; it’s the baby’s father. He was slow to start, but now he’s amped up with controlling the situation. Dante comes to the door, and asks, is this a private party, or can anyone join? Chase says he’s not interrupting anything important, and Brook says, don’t talk like she’s not there. Dante says, believe him, everyone knows when she’s in the room. Her bodyguard is looking for her. She asks if he’s just saying that to get rid of her, and he asks if it matters. She leaves, and Dante asks how Chase is doing. Chase says, not knowing is the worst part. Whatever it is, keeps changing, and not for the better. Dante says he’s sorry, and Chase says, do him a favor and don’t say anything, especially to Brook. He thinks he scared her. Dante says other than, I don’t know, what are they saying? Chase says, they’re running more tests, and trying to make him comfortable, but that’s about it. He’s getting sick of waiting. They need to figure out what’s going on, like now.

Maxie tells Nathan, when she was walking down the aisle, looking at Peter, she really believed she was getting back some of the happiness she lost when he died. She thought her life was perfect again, but it was just a mirage. As it turns out, Peter’s not the wonderful man she thought. Waiting for her was an illusion, a disguise. It turns out, Peter was Henrik all along.

Nina tells Sonny, she’s made her share of mistakes, but she’s also had her share of second chances. Sonny asks if she’s stolen from her company, and she says, no, but she can say she’s taken things that weren’t hers. He asks if she gave them back, and she says, eventually. Eli says, as did he, but Sonny says, stealing from your own company is like stealing from family. It shows a lack of loyalty. Eli says he’s never heard it put that way, and Sonny says, it doesn’t surprise him. Why should Phyllis and Lenny trust Eli? Nina asks who Sonny is to judge after everything he’s done?

Jason says, Sonny told him how Shawn stepped up while he was gone; he appreciates it. Shawn says, Sonny has always done right by him. He was sorry to hear about Sonny’s passing. Jason asks if Shawn has a lot of friends looking out for him, but Shawn says they mostly look out for each other. Jason says, mostly? and Shawn says, Sonny is gone, but Cyrus isn’t. When there’s a shift in power, a man has to consider his own best interests.

Carly asks Jordan what doing her job looks like, and Jordan says she’s sure Carly is familiar with it. She knows an arrest when she sees it. Carly asks when Jordan is going to arrest Cyrus, and don’t tell her that she can’t comment on an ongoing investigation. She doesn’t want details; just a ballpark. When is Cyrus going to be back behind bars? Jordan says she’s getting close, and Carly says, is she? Sonny is dead, Jason is in prison, and Laura is stuck with a half-brother who’s going to start a mob war so epic, no one will be left standing. If Jordan wants Carly to sit on her hands while she solves the problem, Jordan is going to have to give her a lot more.

Eli asks what Sonny/Mike has done, and Nina says she doesn’t know what he’s done; none of them do. That’s the problem. She’s sorry, but until he finds out more about his past, Sonny isn’t in a position to judge. Sonny says he might not know his history, but he knows the kind person he is. What if she doesn’t trust the man in front of her, but trusts the man he was before he lost his memory? She says she doesn’t know. She just needs to clear her head. She’s going to get some fresh air, and find Phyllis and Lenny. Don’t fight. She leaves, and Eli says Sonny is telling Nina and everybody else to see him for who he is, and what he’s done, but maybe he’s not the one Nina needs to see through.

Willow says she’s more committed than ever to building a life with Michael and Wiley, but one of the reasons they got together was because of Chase and Sasha trying to help. They did what they thought was best. Michael says, now it’s their turn to do the best for Chase. She says she can’t end things right now. She can’t start a life with Michael by hurting Chase while he’s down. She knows it’s a lot to ask, but she’s thinking that together they can help each other get through whatever is going to happen. She asks if he’s okay, and he says he agrees Chase is a priority, and this is the best way to help him. It’s frustrating to wait, but that’s okay. He’ll wait as long as it takes.

On the phone, Brook says she doesn’t care what Valentin told him. He can’t roam the hospital searching for her. She’s on the 7th floor; 7 is after 6. Go there, and wait in the waiting area. Michael says she’s on a short leash, and Brook says, it’s a temporary, necessary evil. She thanks Willow, and Willow says, for what? Brook says, Chase isn’t nearly as cool, calm, and collected as he’s pretending to be. Willow staying with him is the only thing keeping him going. Willow says she’s just glad she can help. She should get back. Willow leaves, and Brook asks if there’s anything Michael wants to tell her.

Anna tells Finn, one of Peter’s conditions was that she not tell anyone. Finn says she let him know, and she says, of course (🍷), but he can’t let anyone else know. If he goes to the cops… He says he gets the picture. She tells him to analyze the pieces from the vial. In the best case, he can recreate the antidote, but if that’s not possible, he can narrow the tests down. Finn asks what she’s going to do while he does a reverse analysis to find an antidote for an unknown toxin. She says she’s not going to stand by and let Chase die.

Phyllis tells Jax, Nina was emotionally bent up when she got here. She was deeply wounded from the lies he and Carly told her. She’s healing, and asked for the time and space to do that. If he loves her, he’ll respect her wishes. He says he just needs to see her, and Phyllis asks, what about what she just said made him think that’s a good idea? Lenny says, Nina can decide for herself if she wants to see him. Too late. Nina sees him, and says, Jax.

Nina asks what Jax is doing there, and he says, he told her on the phone that he needed to talk to her in person. She says, and she told him, she’s not ready. Phyllis says he shouldn’t have come there. He needs to go. Lenny asks if Nina wants him to get Mike. He and Mike can walk Jax back to his car. Nina says, no, but they should go find Mike. He and Eli… Phyllis says, say no more, and Lenny says they won’t be far. They leave, and Jax says they’re very protective of her. She says, they’re good people, and he says, what about Eli and Mike? She says, they’re friends of Phyllis and Lenny’s, but they don’t get along. It’s nothing for him to be concerned about. She says, he told her that he wanted to talk for a minute. The clock’s ticking. He says, first, it’s good to see her, but she says, it’s not good to see him. He’s going to ruin everything.

Maxie says, Spinelli tried to warn her. So did Jason and Robert, even Dante, from the second he got home. Nathan’s mom tried too, but she thought Obrecht was the one with an agenda. Everything everyone told her that she refused to hear turned out to be true. Maybe Dante was right, and part of the reason she was drawn to Peter was because he’s Nathan’s half-brother. She convinced herself that Peter was like him, but they couldn’t be more different. Nathan was honest, when Peter is the biggest liar on the planet. Actually, the biggest lie in the whole thing was the one she was telling herself, that Peter was a good, decent man. Now she has to pretend she’s thinking about working things out; taking me time. God knows what Peter will do once he’s convinced it’s over. Robert is at home, covering for her, in case Peter makes one of his impromptu visits, and Britt… He’d be so proud of his sister. In a cosmic redemption move, Britt is actually helping her, which leads her to the worst part of the whole thing. The way she sees it, there’s only one way to protect her baby.

Jordan says she understands how frustrated Carly is. Jordan spent so many years trying to put Cyrus away. He pushes them to the brink, until they’re so desperate, they’ll do anything just to be done with him. Carly says she can’t disagree with that, and Jordan says they should disagree less. They’re on the same side as far as Cyrus is concerned. Carly says, the enemy of my enemy and all that? and Jordan says, yeah. Cyrus knows how to skirt the law, and stay outside of it where he’s not touched. Does it remind Carly of anyone else? Carly starts to protest at the comparison, but Jordan says what she wouldn’t give for some of Sonny’s insight. She’s sure Carly feels the same way. She promises she’s going to stop Cyrus this time. Carly says, if she’s finished, she’ll tell Jordan why she asked her there.

Jason tells Shawn, Sonny valued loyalty, and he values those who remain loyal. Cyrus is the problem… Shawn asks what Jason thinks he should do. Sonny is dead, and Jason is in there. If one weren’t true, he’d have a shot. Jason asks what he’s saying, and Shawn says, if he needs to do something about Cyrus, he’ll handle it himself. We see Shawn has a knife.

Jax asks what Nina means, ruin everything? and she says, she means her and this place, and the peace. He says he didn’t come to upset her, and she says of course (🍷) he didn’t, but here they are, and he’s upsetting her trying to make things better. He says he misses her, and he loves her. Pease don’t shut him out.

Phyllis asks if Sonny is by himself, and he says, not anymore. He asks where Lenny is, and she says, he got tired from dancing, so she sent him home to recover. She came over to referee him and Eli. Where is Eli? Sonny says, out of town, if they’re lucky, and she says Eli said Sonny might have a few words about him, and Sonny says he’ll tell her the same thing he told Nina. Back in San Francisco, Eli was arrested for embezzlement. She says she’s known a long time. When he came back, she could tell he was licking his wounds, but she decided to give him the time he needed to own up. Sonny asks if Eli told her that he’d been arrested, and she says, not yet. He guesses Eli is late, and she says she appreciates his instinct to protect her and Lenny, but it’s not his place to tell her about Eli’s past. He says, somebody had to. She’s way too trusting. She says, that’s why Sonny/Mike has a roof over his head. That’s not the only thing bothering him, is it? He tells her, something Nina said got under his skin. She said he had no right to judge Eli when he doesn’t know what he did before he lost his memory. She asks if it scares him, and he says, a little. Does it scare her? She says, no, and he asks, why not? She says, because the man she sees is honorable, kind, works hard, and has both feet on the ground. He’s a good friend, even if he’s over-protective, and best of all, he makes a mean bolognaise. He says she’s right about that last one, and she says, all of it. She doesn’t need to know anything else, but that’s her. He has to decide what he wants to know about himself.

Jax asks if he and Nina can go somewhere talk private. They’ll just tell Phyllis and Lenny where they’re going, so they don’t worry. Nina says she’s sorry. His minutes are up, and she’s not going anywhere with him.

Dante is talking baseball to Chase, when Willow comes back. She asks how it’s going, and Chase says, they were just catching up. Dante says he doesn’t know if it’s his riveting conversation that made Chase sleepy, or he’s boring Chase. He gets up, and says, it’s good to see him, and Chase says, it’s good to see Dante too. He thanks Dante for coming by, and Dante tells him to get well soon. There are parking tickets that need to be written, and pencils that need to be pushed. He leaves, and Willow asks if she can get anything for Chase. He looks tired. Suddenly, Chase is gripped with pain.

Anna tells Finn, Peter is focused on Maxie right now, and she’s letting him believe she’s caving to his demand for help. Finn asks how much time that will buy them, and she says she’s hoping it will distract Peter up until the baby is born. He says Peter strikes him as a multitasker, but she says, if she’s right, Peter has easy access to the antidote nearby. She can monitor his whereabouts. He says he has a better idea. Stay the hell out of it.

The guard has Shawn in a hold, and asks what the hell he was thinking. We see a bloody knife, and Shawn says, Jason came at him. What was he supposed to do? Jason lies bleeding on the floor.

Carly tells Jordan, this wasn’t a courtesy call. Jordan knows from TJ what Cyrus is capable of. She wants to warn Jordan that Cyrus has his mother back. She might want to protect her family. Jordan appreciates that, and says, here’s one for Carly. Cyrus is working so hard to cultivate his image as an upstanding citizen, it’s giving them time to build a case. Carly hopes Jordan is right, and hopes Jordan keeps doing what she’s doing, but watch her back. Jordan says she will, and tells Carly to do the same. She leaves.

Maxie says she’s looked at the situation from every possible angle, and it comes down to this. She can’t condemn her daughter to a life with Peter as her father. Maxie starts to cry, and says, so if keeping her daughter safe means having to give her up, and pretend she’s dead, that’s what she’s going to do. Olivia listens in. I’m relieved, since I thought Peter might be listening.

On the phone, Brook says she’s coming. She slips back into an alcove, and adjusts her fake belly. She quickly walks past the reception desk.

Dante tells Michael that Willow is with Chase, and Michael says, Chase needs her right now. Dante asks if Michael is okay, and says, he’s a good dude. Michael says, thanks, but not always. Willow is, and he’s just trying to follow her example.

Willow says maybe Portia can give Chase something for the pain, but he says, don’t go; it’s starting to let up. She sits back down, and he tells her, Portia said it would come in waves. It will pass. She tells him to let her know if she needs to do anything, but he says she’s already doing it. He might not be able to hold her hand, but he can still look at her. Seeing her face makes him feel better.

**Finn tells Anna not to come anywhere near Chase. All the times Anna pushed him away to protect him from her world, he should have listened. He was pulled into the world of her psychotic family, and they poisoned his. She did this, not just Peter. She let Peter in. She asks what he wants her to do, and he says, pray he can find an antidote for what her nephew used to poison his son. He stomps off.

Phyllis suggests she and Sonny make a deal to put this nonsense between him and Eli to rest for the night, and enjoy themselves. He promised Nina another dance. Find her, and dance that dance. What does he say? He says she can be real pushy, and she laughs, saying, that’s how she gets things done. Go find Nina. We see a guy dressed like a cowboy near the refreshments. He’s wearing a bandana that hides half his face, and a gun.

Nina tells Jax, don’t talk. She’s still angry that he hid the identity of her daughter for months to protect his ex-wife. And in doing that, he kept her grandchild from her. He thinks saying it’s because he loves and wants to protect her, makes it okay. It doesn’t make it okay. He doesn’t love her. He asks how she can say that, and she says he didn’t respect her. She said she needed space and time away, yet here he is. If he loved and respected her, he wouldn’t be there. She needs him to go right now, and needs him to stay gone.

On a cell phone, Shawn says, Jason is on his way to the hospital. Carly thanks him, and says she’ll take it from there. She smiles.

Tomorrow, Molly tells TJ to congratulate her, Sonny tries to prevent a robbery at the dance, and Shawn says, it’s been a while.

🍹 I’m catching up on Overserved, and IMO, the only problem with this show is that it’s only a half-hour. LVP had guests Jeanie Mai and Meagan Good to Villa Rosa for A Night in Morocco. Jeanie video chatted with her mom, who was also at a party, and joked that next time she wanted to be paid. She seemed like a lot of fun. They played a dare game, and Jeanie did some twerking she learned from Cardi B, and we found out that Meagan once had a pet monkey who threw poop at the walls. Yeah. That’s the problem with exotic pets. They shouldn’t be pets. And they will wreck your house. Pandora brought out Moroccan tea in glasses, toting them in a lantern frames, which was pretty fancy. They played Get Pumped, and we found out Jeanie likes to do it with the lights on, because she likes to see what she’s working with. Very sensible. LVP had discovered Meagan loved The Bachelor, so she conjured up Nick Viall on her tablet to give Meagan The Bachelor Experience. Nick played along as all the women gave him their opening pick-up lines, and he picked Meagan for the final rose. In the next episode – technically tonight – LVP will host Lala Kent and Anna Camp. I’ll be watching it in the wee hours.

🏖 It finally came. The finale of The Worst House Ever Summer House. Stephen wanted to make sure he and Lindsay were on the same page, and in Lindsay’s interview, she said she didn’t need flowers every day; she just needed him to show up. He was finally boyfriend she’d been asking for. Hannah told Des she’d snapped after her sit-down with Luke. He told her not to be upset about getting angry, since that group gets angry over a pool noodle. Okay, maybe he didn’t say pool noodle, but it was something just as stupid, and pool noodle sounds funnier. Paige said it was the first time ever in relationship that she knew what she wanted – not to be in a relationship. She thought Perry would be blindsided, since she decided to sit on this information, instead of telling him right away. Amanda and Kyle decided to have a pretend white wedding, and Kyle said it was the first summer that he didn’t want to end. It was epic. They played Dirty Jenga, where things were written on the pieces like, show us your… never mind. They drank and acted like idiots. Amanda said if Lindsay got engaged at her pretend wedding, she’d lose her sh*t. The now sensible Carl left the party early. Lindsay got pissed for no reason, and told Stephen, STFU, and he said he was out. Whee! The roller coaster ride continues. Very mature behavior too. And how old is Lindsay now? 45?

Lindsay whined, why does this happen every time? and I answered, because you get drunk and act stupid. Kyle just wanted to eat Tostido’s, which was possibly the most rational thing he’s done all summer. Danielle told Robert, welcome to the house. Lindsay said Stephen’s defense mechanism was to run away, but I thought it was his mechanism to stop listening to her drunken rants. Lindsay asked Danielle if she was the problem in her relationship with Stephen, and when Danielle said, yes, she was like, what? She admitted she was constantly testing Stephen, but didn’t trust him not to leave her again. She said his running again made her question everything. In Luke’s interview, he said, now that Hannah was occupied, a weight had been lifted from him.

In Ciara’s interview, she acknowledged how crazy it had been for her to stay in a house with her ex and a bunch of strangers. She said she was alive to tell the story, and loved the girls. Lindsay and Stephen apologized to each other, but Lindsay said it had shown her that they weren’t ready to live together. She told him that she had abandonment issues, and if he ran away again, it was over. Everything looked elegant – all white with tealights – for the pretend wedding, but I figured it was only a matter of time before it got messy. Kyle and Amanda walked down the aisle together, after Kyle said they were presenting themselves, but there was no music, which seemed odd. Carl officiated, and was quite funny. Ciara caught the bouquet, but said she shouldn’t have, since she had no potential. Speeches were made, and in Hannah’s interview, she said it had always been the three of them – her, Amanda, and Paige – but because she chose to stand up to Kyle, and Paige kept quiet, being a bridesmaid was Paige’s reward. Then came the dancing. And the drinking. And a fog machine. And Danielle officially becoming Robert’s girlfriend. So is this a thing now? I’m surprised this group doesn’t send out announcements when they become boyfriend/girlfriend. It ended with everyone jumping in the pool, and Paige saying there’s no one that she’d choose to spend summer with, other than these psychos. Everybody loved everybody, until…

Next time, the reunion. Kyle walks. So does Hannah. And oh my God, there’s going to be a Nightmare in the Snow Winter House. Don’t these people have real jobs?

Even though the guide tries to convince me this GH Flashback is from May 12th, 2020, I know it’s from May 4th. Refresh yourself below, or go here for the full monty:

https://tvwiththeresa.wordpress.com/2020/05/05/may-4-2020-spencer-agrees-to-see-nikolas-adam-wants-to-drive-away-literally-a-list-for-santa-here/

Jason saw Brando at the gym, and Brando wondered if there had been some kind of cease fire; the kids were off house arrest. Sonny told him that he was free to go back to Chicago, but he’s decided to stay. Ava called Franco to confirm her last portrait sitting. She sent out the invitations, and wanted to make sure there was something to unveil at the unveiling. He assured her the portrait would be finished. At Windymere, Nikolas walked in, and told Ava this had to stop. Franco poured over the bills at his hospital studio, and Elizabeth saw Ava’s invitation on his desk. She started reading it, saying it sounded swanky. The smile left her face, and he asked, what is it? Molly, Kristina, and Sam sorted clothes for the clothing drive, which Molly said was to give professional wardrobe options to women in challenging situations. Neil showed up at Charlie’s, grabbed Julian by the collar, and asked if Julian had any idea what he’d done to Alexis.

Brando said Sonny was okay with him staying, and told Jason that he liked Port Charles and running his own place. Jason asked if he could use another customer. Alexis was late, and Molly stressed about sleeping with someone else when TJ was literally tied up. Sam wondered if Molly shouldn’t tell TJ the truth. Julian asked Neil what the problem was, and Neil said Julian had made his and Alexis’s personal business public. Julian accused Neil of taking advantage of Alexis, and driving her to drink. Because of Julian, the medical board got word that he had lied about their relationship, and it cost Neil his career. On the phone with Diane, Alexis said she’d lied at the hearing, and asked if Diane thought the bar would see it as perjury. Franco asked Elizabeth what was wrong, and Elizabeth read from the invitation that Ava’s portrait had been painted by notorious bad boy Franco, ten years after his fall from grace. She said Ava was dredging up Franco’s past for her vanity party. He said his past was no secret, and it’s what people thought about when they heard his name. Nikolas told Ava that the adolescent games had to stop. She’d given instructions to have trees cut down, but she didn’t get to change the house or grounds. Ava accused Nikolas of putting the snake in her purse at Violet’s party, but he said he didn’t do petty revenge. Ava noticed a letter from Spencer had arrived. Neil said Julian made a public spectacle of him and Alexis, and Julian said Neil had abused his privilege as Alexis’s therapist, doing damage to her. Neil said what Julian had done was worse.

Sam asked Molly what happened after she left Charlie’s, and Molly said she’d decided to tell Brando about her decision not to tell TJ that they’d slept together. When she got to the garage, Sam was there. Sam said she wanted to know where Brando stood, which Molly thought was inappropriate and unnecessary. Sam said she didn’t want Brando taking advantage of Molly, but Molly said she didn’t need Sam running to her rescue. Alexis showed up, and asked what they were fighting about. Jason told Brando that he needed a stabilizer for his Fatboy, and Brando said he’d thought Sam was Jason’s mechanic. She’d been at the garage, and seemed to know a lot about bikes. Jason asked why Sam had gone there. Elizabeth told Franco that Ava knew he’d changed his life around, and just because her life was trainwreck, it was no reason to expose Franco. Franco said a producer had reached out to him about participating in a documentary about Ryan, since he’d been involved in Ryan’s capture. It had also been ten years since his Francophrenia show, the night tried to frame Jason for pushing him off a roof. Nikolas read Spencer’s letter, and told Ava that Spencer was willing to accept him back in his life if he left Ava. Spencer hadn’t forgiven her for selling out to Valentin, and said Nikolas’s turncoat wife had to go. Ava said Spencer needed someone to blame and focus his anger on, but it was wonderful that he wanted to give Nikolas a second chance. Spencer deserved to have his father in his life. She assumed Nikolas would be wanting a divorce. He said, sorry. He’d do anything to reconcile with Spencer. She said she understood, and asked when he was moving out.

Molly told Alexis that they weren’t fighting, and Sam said it was just a spirited debate. Alexis asked what the debate was about, and Kristina said it was about Molly and TJ. Molly had news. Julian said his relationship with Alexis didn’t concern Neil, but Neil said what Julian had done to her was very much his concern. Julian asked if Alexis confided to Neil in therapy or in bed, and Neil said Julian was in denial about holding a knife to Alexis’s throat, and terrorizing a woman he’d said he loved. Then Julian had made their private business public. Julian said Alexis had a reason to be angry at him, but he didn’t know why Neil wasn’t thanking him. Elizabeth told Franco that ten years ago seemed like a lifetime; Franco wasn’t the not same man he was today. Franco said it was because of her. He’d been put in the spotlight, and asked for his side of the story. He was being offered a lot of money, and it was an incredible opportunity. Elizabeth said, absolutely not. She knew it was painful, and didn’t want Franco to relive it, but these were strangers. Ava was supposed to be his friend. Franco said, like or not, scandal sells, and there had been an uptick in purchasing his old artwork. His old paintings had become more valuable. He taught sick kids, had kept the hospital afloat with donations, and single-handedly stopped Ryan, but his past would always be there. Nikolas asked if Ava thought he was giving her Windymere. She said, and the island as well. It was part of the 90% she’d get if they divorced. He said there had been no failing on his part, and it was because of his son. Why was she doing this? He thought she’d wanted him to have a relationship with Spencer. She said she did, but the terms were clear and binding. Nikolas said she was about to overplay her hand, and if she tried to keep his son from him, it wouldn’t end well for her.

Ava told Nikolas, threats were unnecessary. She wasn’t standing in the way of his reconciliation, but a deal was a deal. She wasn’t walking away without her fair share. He accused her of trying to steal Spencer’s inheritance, but she said the remaining 10% was more than enough for Spencer to live on, and Nikolas had agreed to the terms. He said she only cared about herself, and had proved it by driving her daughter away. Ava slapped him, and told him not to talk about her child. He said to stop using his child as a pawn. Ava said now was his chance to prove he loved Spencer. Give up his fortune, and give Spencer the father he wanted – or not. He could stay married to her and keep the money. He insisted she’d fooled him, but she told him not to kid himself. It was his choice – his money or his son. Franco told Elizabeth that they should cash in on the publicity before it crashed. He didn’t think anyone had bought any paintings because of his talent in a long time. It was about his reputation. He didn’t care, and neither did the college fund. Elizabeth said, not at the expense of his art’s integrity; she preferred her art speak for itself. Franco said she wasn’t a real artist. Julian told Neil that he’d treated Alexis like a dirty secret, but now it was out in the open. Neil said Julian was being simplistic and selfish. Alexis had been hurt. She’d lied to the medical review board, and was looking at disciplinary action and possible disbarment. Julian said they were the ones who’d jumped into bed together and lied about it. Neil got what he deserved, but Julian was sorry it was coming back to bite Alexis. He asked if Alexis had kicked Neil to the curb, and Neil said, no, but maybe she should. Brando told Jason about fixing Molly’s car, and said they were on good terms, but Kristina and Sam couldn’t stand him. Molly told Alexis about how TJ had suggested a domestic partnership. Alexis asked if Molly was happy, and Molly said it was more than she’d hoped for. Alexis didn’t buy it, and asked what was really going on.

Realizing what he’d said, Franco told Elizabeth, of course (🍷) she was a real artist. She just didn’t have a lot of experience with the idiots who were in charge of professional work. He wasn’t trying to offend her. Elizabeth said he was right; she had no idea how the art world worked like he did. He told her that it was Ava’s last sitting, and there had to be something to unveil at the unveiling, and she told him not to keep the gravy train waiting. Neil told Julian that Alexis deserved a clean slate, and he’d done more harm than good. Julian asked if Neil was walking away after what Alexis had gone through. She’d risked everything for Neil, now he was going to disappear? It wasn’t about helping Alexis, but about Neil. He was running away to protect himself. Jason asked Brando why he had a problem with Kristina and Sam, and Brando said he’d offended Kristina, and Sam was offended on Kristina’s behalf. He’d been talking to Sam about how she’d helped take down Shiloh, and said people who join cults are idiots. Then Sam told him about Kristina being involved with DoD. He tried to apologize, but the damage had been done. I still fail to see why this was so horrible. Didn’t Kristina think she’d been an idiot? Molly told Alexis that she was sorry she’d kept quiet about it, and Alexis said it was her fault. She’d been too focused on her own thing, and hadn’t been there for Molly. Molly said Alexis had nothing to feel bad about, and Alexis said she thought the domestic partnership was a great idea. Molly was very sensible, and Alexis was proud of her. Molly said Alexis was making her out to be perfect, but she’d jumped in bed with someone when TJ disappeared.

Nikolas went to the hospital to see Elizabeth, who snapped at him, saying she was working. He said she seemed upset. He’d come looking for a friend, but was there any way he could help? Franco went to Windymere, where he found Ava crying, martini in hand. He asked, what happened? but she said she was fine. Franco told her that he was feeling down, and could use a hug. He held her while she cried. Julian told Neil to try and put Alexis first. Use his shrink intuition, figure out what she needed, and act accordingly. He didn’t need to bail. Neil asked if Julian wanted him to be with Alexis, and Julian said, hell no, but Alexis wanted to be with him. He wanted Alexis to be happy. Neil said he couldn’t make up for Julian’s failings, and Julian said he could try not to add to them. He told Neil to fight for her. She was going to need his help. She didn’t let a lot of people in, and had laid herself on the line for him. Julian didn’t know what Neil’s issues were, but told him to conquer them. He’d be a fool to walk away. Brando said Sam was protective of her sisters, and Jason agreed. Brando said he’d apologized, and hoped they were good now. Jason asked if he’d fixed Molly’s car, and Brando said he did. Molly’s boyfriend had come to pick it up. Sam said she was there for the same reason, but it could have just been an excuse to chew him out. Jason suggested Brando not mess with Sam or her sisters, and Brando said he’d learned his lesson.

Molly told Alexis that she’d slept with Brando, who was Sonny’s cousin, but they weren’t related. Alexis said, thank God for small favors. Molly said she’d just had a fight with Jordan, who’d said TJ was done and it was Molly’s fault. She felt frustrated and angry. She’d thought TJ had bailed on a ten year relationship, and let his mother deliver the news. She ran over a curb, damaging her car, and Brando’s was the closest garage. They got to talking, and one thing led to another. Molly flashed back to kissing Brando, and told Alexis that Brando didn’t even know she had a boyfriend. When she explained, he couldn’t have been more decent. Nothing he did was wrong; it was her. Kristina said, it was one night. There was no good reason for Molly to tell TJ and risk the relationship. Molly didn’t think she could swallow her guilt, and Sam told Kristina that Molly didn’t handle her problems the same way Kristina did. Kristina handled them or not until they blew up in her face. Kristina said Sam had been pushing Jason to meet her in secret, and Sam said Kristina was the reason she was on parole in the first place. Kristina asked if Sam was blaming her, and Sam said, yes.

The Real Housewives of New York City

Ramona says, earlier, the energy was bad. She’s hoping that tonight, everyone will be lighter and in a better place. Restaurant guy Ben delivers a load of food. Dorinda pops out in a sequined number with huge angel sleeves that looks like it’s from Danceteria in the 80s. In the time it takes for Ben to put the bags in the kitchen, Ramona tells him that she looks good, but she’s sloppy, and she looks thin, but likes to eat. Nothing like giving herself a couple of compliments. She puts the food into bowls. Dorinda says she doesn’t know why Sonja puts up with LuAnn, and Ramona says Sonja loves LuAnn and likes to perform. Dorinda thinks maybe Sonja should do her own show, and Ramona says Sonja was doing cabaret before anyone else. LuAnn has supersonic ears, and asks what Ramona is talking about. Ramona repeats herself, and LuAnn says, it was caberlesque, and not the same thing. We flash back to Sonja’s show, and LuAnn tells Ramona, she didn’t think Sonja was that good. In the kitchen, Sonja mumbles that she knows the Countess is a major cabaret star. Dorinda tells LuAnn to stop it; she’s being nasty. In LuAnn’s interview, she says Dorinda was trying to protect Sonja, but Sonja was capable, and didn’t need defending. Sonja says she doesn’t care what Lu Ann is saying. She loves LuAnn. LuAnn explains to Sonja that the show is called Countess and Friends; it’s about her, but she brings Sonja in because she loves her. Don’t tell her what to do.

Sonja sits at the table, and says she’s done with LuAnn and her show. In the kitchen, LuAnn tells Len that she has a professional show because that’s what she does. Len says, eat. Sonja says LuAnn disrespected her, and LuAnn asks, how? Sonja says LuAnn thinks she sucks, and LuAnn tells her that she didn’t say that. She said she didn’t want her to be in the show. Ramona says LuAnn isn’t paying Sonja, and it’s insulting. Dorinda says Sonja was with LuAnn when she was down and out. In Ramona’s interview, she says LuAnn is using Sonja for laughs, and not paying her, when LuAnn could afford it, and Sonja could use the money. Dorinda gets weepy, and says, shame on her, and repeats that Sonja was with her when she was down and out. LuAnn says she doesn’t know what going on, and Dorinda leans over the table. They start yelling, fingers in each other’s faces. Dorinda says LuAnn has a mugshot of her drunkenness, and she’s an effing fool. In Leah’s interview, she says, it sucks to hear that coming from Dorinda. All of  them are one drink away from a mugshot. Ha-ha! I want that on a T-shirt – I’m one drink away from a mugshot. LuAnn walks out of the room, and Ramona tells Dorinda that she’s being aggressive. In her interview, Ramona says Dorinda is like a dragon, and she’s after whoever’s in front of her. When she’s drinking, she’s vicious. She went after Tinsley, then her, and now LuAnn. Who’s next? LuAnn hiccup cries as she packs. Ramona tells Dorinda that she’s shocked, and Dorinda says, karma’s a bitch. She doesn’t want to fight, but LuAnn uses them. She used Jovani, which Dorinda gave her. LuAnn continues to pack, and says no way is she staying in this house. Dorinda says Ramona is making her feel ashamed and bad, and that’s not what a girlfriend does. Dorinda sees the Jovani logo on LuAnn’s bag, and starts singing Feelin’ Jovani.

LuAnn tells Dorinda, get over it. Dorinda follows her out, but then comes back without incident. She says, LuAnn never says thank you. What’s wrong with her? Leah goes outside, and tells LuAnn to stop. Dorinda announces that her dress cost $400, and LuAnn says, she’s drunk. In Leah’s interview, she says you would think Dorinda owns stock in Jovani, the amount of times the word has come out of her mouth. It doesn’t make any sense. LuAnn suggests going to pub, and Leah says, they’ll hang out with the locals. Sonja falls over backward in her chair, hitting the floor. LuAnn cries, and Leah hugs her. LuAnn says Leah is so drunk, and Leah says, no, LuAnn is. Leah goes inside and calls for Ramona. She finds Ramona on Sonja’s lap, and tells her that LuAnn is outside hysterically crying. Ramona agrees to come with them – no doubt wanting to look for new men – but Sonja wraps her arms around Ramona’s waist. Outside, LuAnn says she’s not staying, and Leah tells Ramona, LuAnn is in a bad place. LuAnn keeps repeating, I need to go. In Ramona’s interview, she says she’s never seen LuAnn like this. She’s in pain. Dorinda went for the jugular, and it’s not cool. Ramona says she has no phone, money, or card, and LuAnn says she’s got her. They get in a cab, and drive away. Sonja decides to go to bed, and the others follow, even though it’s 8 pm. Len is left to clean up, although it could be worse. It could be the Hamptons.

In the morning, Dorinda finds Ramona in the kitchen. Ramona asks how she’s feeling, and Dorinda says she shouldn’t have gotten involved. She could tell Sonja was drunk; they were all drunk. The rosé gets you every time. She felt defensive of Sonja. In Ramona’s interview, she says Dorinda doesn’t realize how nasty she gets. She used to go from 0 to 60, and it lasted a second or two. Now she goes from 0 to 100, it lasts 30 minutes, and she gets vicious and evil. Sonja sits in bed reading, and Elyse comes in. Sonja says LuAnn is at a hotel, and Elyse asks, what’s the issue? Sonja says, LuAnn is back on her high horse. In Sonja’s interview, she says, all is forgiven because they were partying, and it doesn’t bother her. But LuAnn thinks Sonja’s time isn’t as important as hers, and that bothers her. Ramona tells Dorinda, she she saw the old LuAnn come out. Leah tells Sonja and Elyse that they went to an old school bar that had a jazz band. In her interview, she says, LuAnn was dancing, and she thought LuAnn wanted to sing, but they weren’t interested. In Leah’s interview, she says she had some martinis, flirted with the bartender. Ramona did nothing. What? Sonja says, at least they had fun, and Leah says there were a bunch of 90 year olds there; it was geriatric central. Sonja says she should have gone, and Leah says she would have loved it.

Dorinda decides she has to call LuAnn. Surprisingly, LuAnn answers the phone, and Dorinda says she loves her. LuAnn says she loves Dorinda too. She doesn’t know what happened. Dorinda says, rosé happened. Another T-shirt I want. Dorinda says she woke up, and ran to LuAnn’s room, wondering where she was. She loves LuAnn, and wants them to stay good place. She was feeling defensive of Sonja, and she doesn’t use liquor as an excuse, but can she do it this time? LuAnn says she was also over-served. In her interview, LuAnn says she’s not going to let one night ruin their relationship, but this behavior is hurtful to Dorinda’s friends, and she hopes Dorinda wakes up and smells the roses. Dorinda tells LuAnn, they peaked too soon. She loves LuAnn, and wants her to come back. LuAnn says she just ordered room service, and suggests meeting them shopping. They’ll chalk it up to bad… Dorinda says, rosé. Ramona says Dorinda always knows how to make it nice. In Ramona’s interview, she says she doesn’t understand it, but it’s not worth fighting the battle. It’s easier to just say, okay, and bury it under the rug.

Sonja, Elyse, and Leah join them in the kitchen, and Sonja says she heard a lot of laughing. Dorinda tells the others that she spoke to LuAnn. She got in trouble defending Sonja, even though she had no skin in the game. Leah asks, what happened? and Dorinda says she doesn’t remember. In Sonja’s interview, she says Dorinda is off the hook. Dorinda lost it, but Sonja knows where it’s coming from. They visited Richard’s grave. We see a clip of them in the cemetery, and Dorinda talking to Richard. Dorinda tells the others, Richard is good, and unfortunately, that was his journey. Sonja tells us, it takes a while to get over pain like that. She’s still grieving her ex. I love how Sonja compares her divorce to Richard’s death. Dorinda tells the women, it’s a beautiful little town. In Dorinda’s interview, she says, being stuck in the house isn’t a good thing for these women. They need something fun and different. They need to change it up. Ramona talks to Sonja, saying LuAnn and Dorinda made up after two seconds; what about them? Sonja says she’ll always love LuAnn, but she’s not doing her show; she’s too busy. Dorinda says they were all in the same mindset – rosé. Leah says she’s happy she was the least drunk, and she’s not getting yelled at. The women applaud. Dorinda says Leah was the best behaved, and Leah says she can’t be the psycho bitch forever.

Dorinda points out The Red Lion Inn, a restaurant she worked at, telling Elyse and Sonja that she was Senator and Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s favorite. She brownnosed her way to the top. They pick up LuAnn, who gets in the other cab with Ramona and Leah. LuAnn says she’s glad they get over things quickly and move on. It’s how they roll. She says, now she knows how Ramona feels. Ramona says Dorinda doesn’t realize how she gets; it’s hurtful. In her interview, LuAnn says, Dorinda pushes resentments down, and doesn’t deal with them. Then it rears its ugly head. She should have played dead like Ramona did at the Halloween party. When they all get out, Dorinda, LuAnn, and Sonja hug. LuAnn says it feels like she had a lovers quarrel. They go to Annie Selke. I love their stuff, but I so can’t afford it. LuAnn tells Sonja that she wants her in the show, and if she gets a bigger venue, she can pay Sonja. Sonja says she wants LuAnn to know that she enjoys it. LuAnn says she didn’t mean to act like Sonja was doing her a favor. It’s good for both of them. It’s a creative thing they can do together, and it’s fun. In Sonja’s interview, she says she can’t help but move forward. It’s not a big deal. She just wants LuAnn to know her time is valuable, and that was accomplished. Leah says she and LuAnn made out. LuAnn says, they did? That’s hot.

Dorinda leads the women to a wine and cheese shop. Dorinda mention for the 47th time that she grew up there, and says she has to pick up some cheese. Ramona says, it smells delicious, and they taste various cheeses. In Dorinda’s interview, she says Colin Cowie is a friend of hers – we flash back to them together – and he’s an incredible host, entertainer, and event planner. She was looking to have a fabulous dinner party, and he’s at her stove cooking right now. The cheese guy says the triple cream is from Burgundy, and Sonja says her lover is from there. In her interview, she says, Frenchie has always been in the picture, and we see a clip of them together. She says, ideally, he’d like her to live in France, but she has too much going on where she is. She tells everyone that Frenchie is an amazing intellect, and a jet set guy. Leah talks about going out with a prince, and peeing on him. In her interview, she says she doesn’t normally pee on people, but when would she have another chance to pee on a prince? I can’t say that one is on my bucket list. LuAnn says she’s had prince boyfriends, but has never peed on one. Leah says, don’t judge her, and LuAnn says she’ll give Leah a trophy. In Sonja’s interview, she says she has other ideas about what she’d like to do with a prince.

Dorinda’s taxi gets to Bluestone Manor first, and she says, let’s take our shoes off. Ramona and Elyse go, ahhh. I know the feeling. Sonja tells Leah that she tried to be real, and got in trouble, and Leah says, when keeping it real goes wrong. The table is set, and everything looks amazing. Upstairs, Ramon has clogged the toilet, and works at it with a plunger. I wonder why she doesn’t roll up her sleeves. In her interview, she says she doesn’t want Dorinda to get upset and rage on her. Sonja relaxes in a bubble bath. Not in the same bathroom. Ramona tells the toilet, please flush, but it doesn’t. Leah comes in, and Ramona tells her about the toilet being clogged. Leah says she’ll do it, but it flushes on Ramona’s next try. In Leah’s interview, she says she saw the nastiest little sh*t she’d ever seen in her life. Dorinda comes in, and asks what Ramona did to the toilet. Apparently, the clog is still going on, and Dorinda works at the toilet with the plunger. She tells Ramona, let it sit, and Leah says Ramona can use her bathroom. Why? So she can clog that too?

Ramona brings out a breathalyzer, and LuAnn shows her how to use it. In Ramona’s interview, she says she thought it would be fun to bring. They can get toasty, and now they can’t yell at her about having another drink. The breathalyzer doesn’t lie. LuAnn calls Ramona a bad blower, and says she’s a pro. Everyone gets ready for dinner. Dorinda’s sister Melinda arrives, and Dorinda hugs Colin for doing the dinner. In her interview, Dorinda says Colin has planned weddings, and done events for Oprah and Michelle Obama, so she’s appreciative that he did this because he’s her friend. She welcomes Melinda, and everyone gathers in the living room for cocktails. Leah says she wants to text the bartender; she’s thinking of inviting him. Melinda asks what’s up with that? and Leah says she’s desperate for d*ck. In Leah’s interview, she says she loves a hot bartender. They’re a therapist, eye candy, and get you drunk. What’s not to love? She asks Dorinda if it’s okay for him to stop by, and Dorinda says, no problem. She has a long history as a waitress and hostess there, and how can she say no to a fellow Red Lioner. Dorinda’s friends Sam and Lyle come in, and Leah asks Elyse if Erica is coming out to play. In Elyse’s interview, she says Erica was the nickname she had when she was on Wall Street. It’s her alter-ego, who would come out when she drank. Erica is a party girl. Leah hopes to meet Erica, and Leah says she can’t handle Erica. Leah says, bitch, yes I can. Heather Thompson and husband Jon arrive. In LuAnn’s interview, she says she hasn’t seen Heather in ages, and she’s looking hot. Sonja hits on Colin. In her interview, Dorinda says Heather lives close by, and when you live in the Berkshires, you all know each other. It’s that kind of environment. Everyone sits for dinner, and Dorinda says Colin has graced them, not just with a meal, but a fantasy. Even the salad is impressive. Elyse asks for straight vodka, and Leah tells Ramona that Elyse is wasted. Colin brings out the lamb, and Heather says, what a rack. BA-DUM-CHH! In her interview, LuAnn says, a rack of lamb and a hot man. What more can a girl ask for? I can think of quite a few things, but okay. Dorinda asks Sam if he can help her with online dating. Ramona tells Sam that it doesn’t work for her. If the woman is more successful, the man can’t get it up. In her interview, she online dating is difficult for her. Because she’s just so special. Okay. I added that last part.

Dorinda says she loves Leah because she’s unfiltered, but confident. Leah understands and owns her sh*t, and she’s a good mother and businesswoman. Dorinda is impressed by her. In Dorinda’s interview, she says, once Tinsley was out of the picture, she realized she loves Leah. Leah is her mini me. She tells Leah that she has chutzpah, and Leah says she’s slightly edited. She gets up, and says she’s a work in progress, and feeling herself. She’s honored and humbled, and doesn’t know what to say. She’s happy to be the only one with her period. Everyone cheers. Heather says, everybody take your pants off. Leah hugs Elyse, and in Elyse’s interview, she says, Leah is the type of girl Erica would have a crush on. They kiss. LuAnn asks Leah about the bartender, and Leah tells her that he said he was into casual living. She doesn’t know what that means. Probably that he doesn’t have any money.

Bartender James shows up, and Leah introduces him. In her interview, she says, it’s a good thing to have one available straight guy around, adding to the vibe. Dorinda tells James that she was The Red Lion Inn. She finds out James also grew up there, and says they’re true Berkshireites. She waitressed her way out. Leah asks for more vodka. Dorinda says Leah is amazing. LuAnn thanks Dorinda for a wonderful time. She slept with the fishes, and swam with the saints. She’s happy they’re together. They’ll always have each other’s backs, and LuAnn will always love her. They hug, and Leah tells James that he’s brave to come there; it’s crazy. In Dorinda’s interview, she says she never expects a perfect trip in the Berkshires, but gives it a seven out of ten. They’re like sisters, and have to work stuff out, but the fun outweighs the lingering issues. Ramona and Sonja kiss.

Next time, LuAnn speaks at a meeting, Ramona has her party, Sonja dances on a mirror, and Ramona wants to shut down the party.

I hope you’ve been able to keep some structure in your life, even if you don’t know what day of the week it is. I had that problem prior to the pandemic (how’s that for alliteration?), so nothing new there. Do everything you can, or do nothing; it’s your weekend. Stay safe, stay gracious, and stay using SPF, even if it’s just on the top half of your face.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Rounding out the week, is a little gem from February 26th, 2016. Please God, let them start filming new episodes soon. Or at least show me what I want to see – the Scorpios in the 90s, and Faison as PK Sinclair. So what if I was the only one who loved Casey the alien?

Nathan was in the hospital, with Maxie, Obrecht, and Nina at his bedside. He told them that he had to get back to work. At the station, Paul gave an interview to a reporter, saying he had broken up an extensive crime ring. He’d gotten an arms shipment off the street, and he criminals responsible had been rounded up. Port Charles was now a safer place. Jordan mumbled, too bad about the bloodshed. Andre told Sonny and Carly that he’d admitted Morgan for a psychiatric evaluation; it was better than the alternative, which was Morgan being arrested. His behavior wasn’t rational. Carly said she didn’t understand. Morgan wasn’t a danger to himself or others. Apparently, she was wrong, since Morgan was on the roof, and about to jump. Ava asked Griff if he’d saved her daughter, and Kiki appeared on the roof with Morgan in a hospital gown.

Obrecht, Nina, and Maxie all insisted that Nathan stay at the hospital. When Obrecht and Nina left, he told Maxie, at least they weren’t at each other’s throats. Maxie asked if that had been his master plan; act like he was leaving, so his mother and sister would team up. Paul told the reporter, no more questions, and Jordan told him that he was feeding the press a bunch of bull so he’d look like hero and save his butt. Paul told her to put aside her ego, but she said he came to her city to make a bust without notifying the local authorities. He said his superiors at the Federal Justice Department didn’t trust the PCPD, which both Jordan and Anna resented. Paul said Dante’s father was a mob boss, but Jordan said Dante was an excellent officer. Paul thought she was having a hard time because she hadn’t been in the loop with a Federal investigation. Jordan told him that it was a power play on his part, and he’d been reckless. One of her detectives was in the hospital, and an innocent woman was fighting for her life. She suggested that if he wanted to be a hero, finish the job. The shipment had been labeled to go to Ava’s gallery, and she wondered why Ava was free. Anna seconded that. Morgan told Kiki that he’d thought she was in surgery, and hugged her. They both stood on the ledge of the roof, and he said he was worried he’d messed up and couldn’t make it right. He was sorry he’d hurt her again. She started bleeding, and told him it hurt. He held her, and came away with a bullet in his hand. She asked if he’d done that to her. Griff told Ava that Kiki was in recovery, and going to ICU. He’d removed the bullet, and there was no further damage to her spinal cord, but her she might have limited mobility in the future. Carly told Sonny that Morgan was out of control, and had been off of his meds. They should have committed him, rather than letting him figure it out on his own. When someone was in the throes of a manic episode, it was impossible for them to make their own decisions. They let Morgan handle things, and Kiki had gotten shot. Andre said the main thing was Morgan being willing to get help. He had a chronic disorder, but it could be managed. They’d learn from their mistakes. They’d given him too much autonomy. Andre said he’d adjust Morgan’s medication, and could give him mandatory blood tests to prove he was taking them. He also needed more therapy. Carly asked, what if Morgan refused? and Andre said they’d tell him, if he wouldn’t play by the rules, he needed to understand he’d wind up in jail. Sonny said he had no problem with Morgan being treated, but had a problem with threatening him with prison. Andre said it was all they had.

Kiki asked Morgan how it happened, and he said she wasn’t supposed to be there. She said he’d left her a voicemail saying he needed help; that he was sick. Morgan said no one could help him. Kiki had said she never wanted to see him again after catching him with Darby. Kiki said the only way was to end it, and they’d do it together. She took his hand. Paul told Jordan that he’d deal with Ava in his own time, and in his own way. Jordan asked, why wait? and Paul said Jordan was feeling left out. She said he’d blown open the case on her doorstep, and she had every right to be involved. Anna said Jordan had a valid point. Why had he let Ava go? Jordan said she was getting a judge to sign off on a warrant for Ava’s arrest. She had the feeling there was more to the story than he was letting her know. She thought Ava would spill her guts because she’d be afraid of going to Pentenville. Paul said the case was bigger than the local PCPD could handle, and Jordan couldn’t arrest Ava. Jordan said, watch her. Griff told Ava it was too soon to give a long-term prognosis. Kiki was young, healthy, and strong, and getting care from excellent professionals. She had a lot of people who cared for her. He told Ava to have faith in Kiki, and she would reward it. Nina told Obrecht that she hired a private security bodyguard for Nathan. Obrecht saw Franco hugging Ava, and said Franco was the one who needed Nina’s attention. When Andre was gone, Sonny told Carly that they all had to be on the same page; united to help Morgan. Carly said she was terrified for Morgan. He wasn’t able to handle his anger, and now someone they care about was fighting for their life because of guns. Sonny said they weren’t his, and Carly said she’d always accepted his business, and that violence was a part of it. She’d looked at it like it was normal, when it was anything but. She had Kiki’s blood on her hands, and could wash it off, but it wouldn’t change a damn thing. Andre chastised a nurse for letting Morgan slip away, then overheard Obrecht say she wanted a full accounting of her patients. An orderly had spotted someone on the roof. Andre hurried to get there. Kiki told Morgan that he didn’t have to be afraid. He wouldn’t feel bad anymore. It would end all his pain – and hers. They’d be together. He said he wanted that, and took her hand. She asked if he was ready, and put her foot out in the air. Morgan said he was ready. Michael came onto the roof, and asked Morgan, ready for what? Maxie told Nathan she hoped he hadn’t soured on weddings; they had one more to go. He asked what he missed, and if Franco had proposed to Nina. Maxie said not that she knew of, and he said, so who? and Maxie asked him to marry her.

Franco told Ava that doctors always give the worst case scenario, so expectations were lower. Then when a patient fully recovered, it would seem even better. Nina joined them, and gave Ava the jewelry Kiki had been wearing. Since Kiki had said it was a gift from Ava, Nina thought she’d want it for safekeeping. Ava saw Paul, flew across the room, and pushed him, saying she was going to kill him. In the locker room, Carly washed her hands while flashing back to what happened; kneeling next to Kiki, bleeding on the pier, and Carly telling her it would be okay. She scrubbed relentlessly at her hands. Michael said they’d been looking for Morgan, and asked what he was doing on the ledge. Kiki said, don’t tell him, and Morgan said he needed time alone. Michael said Morgan was talking to someone, and Morgan said Kiki was there. Michael told him that she wasn’t; she was downstairs having surgery. Morgan suddenly realized there was no Kiki there, and Michael said the procedure would be over soon. They’d wait together, and Morgan could see her afterward. Morgan said he liked it there; it was peaceful. Michael said he’d wait there too, but Morgan said he wanted to be alone. He spread out his arms, and Michael asked what he was doing. Morgan said, something he should have done long ago. He wanted to save everyone grief. He was going to kill himself.

Griff found Carly, scrubbing her hands raw, and turned the water off. He asked if she was all right, and she said, no. Andre came out on the roof, and asked Morgan why he wanted to die. Morgan said every day it got worse, and he wanted to stop hurting people. Andre asked him, be more specific. If he committed suicide, people would want to know why; his mother and father, and his sisters and brothers. He’d never said that before. Why now? Morgan said the pills were supposed to fix things, but hadn’t. Andre said it was more complicated than that, and Morgan said he and Kiki had been on a date. Kiki wanted to have sex, but he couldn’t, so he went off the pills to prove he was a man and had a purpose. He did stupid things; he’d had sex with Darby and lost his job. When Kiki found out, he fell down a hole. He heard guns were going through Sonny’s territory, and thought he could help his dad, prove he was a man, and get out of the hole, but he screwed everything up. Andre said it was a lot to think about, and told Morgan to think about a time before he was in the hole; a time when he was happy. Morgan said, when his little sister was there, and Andre told him, it wasn’t that long ago. Andre suggested he keep talking, and let Andre help him climb out. Morgan asked, why? So he kept hurting people? He didn’t get it. Sonny joined them, and said he got it. He knew it was possible to fight your way out of the hole.

Maxie said she wanted a future with Nathan, and asked if he was going to make an honest woman of her. He said he’d never loved her more. Ava beat her fists against Paul, and Franco broke it up, saying it wasn’t the time or place. Paul told Ava, they had business to discuss, but she said he daughter needed her. He said she wouldn’t do Kiki any good in Pentenville, and they went somewhere private. Griff bandaged Carly’s hands, and said he was aware her son was having a difficult time. She said that was an understatement, and asked how Kiki was. Griff said she made it through surgery, and it was a good start. Carly said he was being discreet, like he’d been with Sonny, when he knew Sonny could walk. The reason Sonny had wanted to hide it was to surprise his enemy. How was first do no harm working for him? Anna told Jordan that Paul didn’t seem too keen on arresting Ava, and Jordan said Anna knew more than her, since she’d been conspiring with him. Anna said she had no idea about the shipment until an hour before it happened. It was last minute, and a lot didn’t add up. Jordan said Ava could fill in the blanks, and they could nail Paul and Carrrlos. Anna said she couldn’t, because they weren’t the only ones who’d committed a crime. Jordan would have to arrest her too. Ava said Paul had blackmailed her into arms dealing, and he said Jordan was preparing to arrest Ava, but he’d stopped her. Ava said if she went down, she would take Paul with her. Morgan said he wanted everyone to go, but Sonny said he loved Morgan, and was wrong to lie. Morgan said he’d done everything wrong, and hurt Kiki, and he couldn’t anymore. No one could help him. Sonny said he knew what Morgan was going through, and that he felt dead inside. Sonny was like that for a long time. He’d wanted to end his life, and not hurt anyone else. He was living proof it didn’t last, and Morgan could find a way out. Morgan said he didn’t want to hurt his family, and Sonny got on the ledge with him, saying they’d jump together. Nathan said Maxie hadn’t been too keen on the marriage thing, and asked if it was because she was worried about him dying. He’d be there the day she decided she really wanted to get married. She was worth getting it right. Jordan told Anna, it had been months of dancing around and information being parceled out to her. Anna said Paul knew about her crime, the truth would come out, and Jordan would be forced to arrest her. Carrrlos’s trial would go cold, and neither one of them would be brought to justice for Duke. She needed time. After that, Jordan would have more people to arrest than she knew what to do with. Jordan said Paul was smart, and the longer she waited, the more time he’d have to cover it up. Anna said she was asking as a friend, and wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t vital. Jordan said she’d give Anna a few weeks, and she’d better not regret it. Every friendship had its limits, including theirs. Griff told Carly that he’d heard about the chaos, and realized he’d played a role in it. He wondered if it could have been prevented if he’d refused to participate in Sonny’s lie. He thought it was his duty to keep Sonny’s confidence, and couldn’t unmake his choice, but had to learn to live with the consequences. Carly said a lot of people were to blame, including her, but not Griff. Griff’s phone dinged, and he said Kiki was being moved to ICU. For the record, he saw Carly as a woman struggling to do what was right for her family, and it couldn’t be easy given Sonny’s line of business. If it was worth the fight, she shouldn’t stop.

Morgan said Sonny had no reason to kill himself, but Sonny said if he couldn’t keep Morgan from falling victim to a condition they shared, he’d have failed as a father. He would die of a broken heart. Either they both jumped, or they both went back to spend time with their family and friends. Morgan nodded, and took Sonny’s hand. Sonny helped him down, and told Morgan that he’d be okay.

Paul said Ava didn’t need to threaten him; they were on the same side. Griff found Ava, and told her Kiki was going to ICU. Ava told Paul she didn’t care what he did; just take care of it. He owed it to her daughter. Franco watched Kiki through the room window. Nina told him that Kiki was going to be okay, and Ava went in to see Kiki. Maxie told Nathan that she was relieved he wasn’t hurt worse, and was glad their engagement story wasn’t going to involve her proposing to him on drab hospital linens. He said when he proposed, it was going to be bootiful, and she said the painkillers were making him dopey. She told him that she loved him, and he drifted off to sleep. Paul told Jordan that he wanted to talk to her, but she said it would have to wait. She had a warrant for Ava’s arrest, and was going to serve it now. Paul asked to see it, and when she handed it to him, he ripped it up. She said, what the hell? and he handed her some paperwork. He said it was Ava’s immunity deal. She’d been cooperating with the Justice Department the whole time; she can’t be touched. Ava told Kiki that she was sorry she was late, but she was there now and not going anywhere. When Kiki woke up, her mom was going to be there. Ava sang All Through the Night to Kiki, and we saw Franco and Nina join hands and leave. As Ava continued to sing, Anna watched her through the window, while Griff watched Anna. Carly, Sonny, and Michael watched as Andre took Morgan away.

📌 Putting a Pin In It…

Enjoy your weekend, but try not to tear down any statues. Remember, historical figures made mistakes too – dare I say there isn’t a person who hasn’t? Alexander Hamilton might not have thrown away his shot, but he also gave us the party system (gee, thanks), cheated on his wife, and had an ego the size of Rhode Island. Our forefathers might have had slaves, but John Adams did try to abolish slavery when the Declaration of Independence was written. Edward Rutledge (South Carolina) threatened to bury the Declaration (it had to be a unanimous vote) if it was included. If that had happened, we might still have slavery, and be paying taxes to King George the Whatever, and there would be no Starbuck’s because we’d be drinking tea. So stay safe, stay empathetic, and stay keeping things in perspective.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Still at the MetroCourt, Valentin asks how Nina is feeling. She says, mostly relived, and a touch frustrated because Sasha won’t pay for what she’s done. Valentin says, it’s time to celebrate. He suggests getting a bottle of their finest champagne, and seeing where the evening takes them. He goes to the bar, and Jordan and Curtis walk in. Nina asks why she hasn’t seen them, and Jordan says they were out on the terrace. Curtis says he hasn’t heard from Nina in a while, and Nina says, things have been busy. Curtis felt that maybe she needed space, and Jordan asks how she’s holding up without Valentin.

Sasha and Michael have changed out of their costumes, and go to Charlie’s. Michael wonders if Sasha thinks he went too far with Valentin, but she says if it wasn’t for him, she doesn’t think Nina would have dropped the charges. Michael says Sasha is the reason Valentin is walking away unscathed, and Sasha says she’s protective of Nina’s feelings. She tells Michael that he was impressive and hot, and she owes him one. He gave her life back to her. Now if she only knew what do with it. Peter and Maxie come in, and Peter says James is enjoying his time with Brad and Lucas. Maxie says, he gets treated like royalty there. Peter says, now for the adult part of her birthday, and asks if she wants a drink. She does, and kisses him. Obrecht comes out, and tells them to get a room. She tells Maxie that she hasn’t seen James in a while, but Peter says, it’s not the best time. Obrecht can understand why Maxie has been standoffish, since she was supposedly involved in Sasha’s lies. Maxie says, it was horrible, and Obrecht admits to knowing Sasha was a fraud, but she only found out shortly before the wedding. She wanted to protect Nina’s heart. Her actions were misguided, but her heart was pure.

Sonny tells Carly, it’s been a long night. Carly says Brad and Lucas are still there on the terrace. He suggests asking them to leave, but she says A, that would be rude, and B, she senses they’re in the middle of something. Outside, Lucas tells Brad to admit it. Who the hell are the nude pictures from? Is he saying it was an accident? Brad says, yes, and Lucas asks if he hears how ridiculous it sounds. Brad doesn’t know what to say or who the guy is. All he knows is that he’s not cheating.

Laura goes back to Julian’s office with him. She says she knows it’s not easy. Julian says he could use a drink, and Laura says, make it two. She asks if he’s sure he’s all right, and Julian says, no, but he’ll get there. He’s glad Ava is getting the help she needs, but wishes he’d gotten her to Shadybrook sooner before she imagined Nikolas in the gallery. He asks how Laura is holding up, and she says it’s not easy on her. It’s never easy for her to bring up Nikolas. He’s been gone for more than two years, but it’s just as painful as it ever was.

Nikolas asks Hayden if she’s happy to see him, and Hayden asks what he was thinking to show himself to Ava. He was supposed to stay in hiding until they found the codicil. Nikolas says their current tactic involves his mother; what genius thought of that? Jax says, she’s doing it for Spencer, but Nikolas says he was clear. He didn’t want to show himself to his mother or son before Valentin was neutralized.

Carly tells Sonny that her brother is probably reading Brad the riot act for being close to Nelle. She can’t believe Brad went to her parole hearing. Sonny says it’s none of their business. On the terrace, Brad asks Lucas not to do this there. Let’s go home. Lucas says he’s not looking other way when Brad gets nude pictures from some guy. Brad asks if Lucas wants him to text back to prove he doesn’t know them. They’re probably going to be mortified that they sent the pictures to the wrong person.

Julian wonders why Ava would be imagining Nikolas now, and Laura says she has a theory. Valentin got rid of a portrait of Helena recently, and she’s pretty sure it ended up at the gallery. Maybe seeing it reminded her of all things Cassadine, Nikolas included. Julian’s phone dings. He looks at it, and a text from Brad asks, who is this? Who sent these? Hello???

Michael toasts to whatever’s next. Whatever it is, he hopes it doesn’t take her away from Port Charles. Sasha says, it would be easier for Nina, but he says, not for him.

Obrecht tells Maxie, after the truth came out, she knew she’d be blamed for staying silent, or accused of being a co-conspirator. So she arranged an extended stay in Switzerland. Peter didn’t tell her? Maxie says, no, and Obrecht says he convinced her to stay. Peter says she’s important to Maxie, and part of James’s family. Obrecht asks Maxie to please say she’s still family. Maxie says she’s forgiven Obrecht for worse. She’s James’s oma, and a part of Nathan. She’ll always be family. They hug, and Obrecht says it means the world to her. Does Maxie think Nina could find it in her heart to forgive her too?

Jordan says her office advised her that Nina dropped the charges against Sasha, and Nina confirms she did. Curtis says, that was decent, since Sasha was just a pawn acting on orders. Valentin returns to the table, and says he sees they have company. Curtis says, you’ve got to be kidding, and Valentin says it’s good to see him after that debacle of a wedding they had.

Hayden tells Nikolas he needs to stay and wait, but he thinks he’s done more than enough waiting. He’s been waiting since he was rescued from the water. Jax says Nikolas is the one who reached out to him with an attractive offer. When it stops being attractive, he’s out.  Nikolas flashes back to meeting with Jax. Jax hears a voice asking if Rome isn’t spectacular, and he says he doesn’t take meetings with a disembodied voice. Show himself, or Jax is leaving. Nikolas comes out, and Jax says, not so dead after all. Nikolas says, not for lack of trying on Valentin’s part, and Jax says he heard how Valentin murdered Nikolas, and Nikolas says, clearly not. It’s taken years for him to position himself, and now he’s ready to reclaim what’s his. Jax wishes him good luck, but Nikolas says, it will take more than luck. He needs Jax’s help, and he’s willing to pay. In the present, Nikolas thinks they should all take a step back. Jax agrees. It’s time rethink things.

Jax says Nikolas agreed to stay in a place of his choice until he and Hayden found the codicil. Nikolas said if Valentin found out, he could do something desperate. Nikolas says he was careful to conceal himself, and Jax says, wearing a mask? Nikolas says it’s commonplace on Halloween. That’s why he went to the gallery to retrieve the portrait. Jax says Ava saw him briefly, but Nikolas says before she woke, he was long gone. Hayden says now they’ll have to wait for possible blowback. Jax says Ava told Nikolas’s mother, and Nikolas says that’s why he didn’t want his mother involved. Jax says Laura thinks Ava had a nervous breakdown, and so does Ava. She thinks she was hallucinating. Nikolas says, no one believes anything Ava has to say. He’s safe. Ava betrayed him. She was supposed to testify that Valentin murdered him, but she recanted her testimony. She deserves whatever she gets.

Curtis says Nina and Valentin are back together? and Jordan adds, after what he did? Nina says, Valentin had no idea; Sasha played the both of them. Curtis says, that’s what Valentin told her? and she says, Sasha told her. Curtis says Nina knew how he’d feel about her getting back with Valentin. Now he gets why Nina has been avoiding him.

Sasha tells Michael that she doesn’t want to be away from him. He suggests she make a life there, but she says, it’s not easy. Michael says he can be of help to her. Obrecht comes by and says she needs to speak to Sasha – privately. Sasha says, Michael knows everything; whatever Obrecht has to say, she can say in front of him. Obrecht says Sasha knows she kept her hands clean. What did Sasha tell Nina about  her involvement in Sasha’s subterfuge? Sasha says she took the blame; Obrecht had nothing to do with it. Nina just agreed to drop the charges. Obrecht wonders if Nina ever asked about the fake DNA test, and Sasha says as far as she knows, Obrecht wasn’t involved. Obrecht says, when Sasha had the flu, Finn – why is it always him? – ran a test that could have exposed Sasha. She may have arranged some influence over the result. Michael says Sasha can’t help Obrecht cover her tracks. She has to go to whoever she helped.

Julian thanks Laura for being kind to Ava, and Laura says she’s had her own bouts of mental illness over the years. Julian didn’t realize, and Laura says she missed a whole part of her life that she fought hard to recover. It made her a better person and mother, and she thinks it will do the same for Ava. Julian doubts Sonny agrees. It’s a perfect set-up for him to go for full custody.

Carly wonders if she should go outside, and Sonny says there’s not much she can do to help. Carly says he’s right, and she doesn’t want Brad to feel ganged up on. Sonny tells her to let them work it out. Carly hopes they do it fast. It’s been a long day.

Brad hands Lucas his phone, saying Lucas can look; full transparency. Lucas says, better late than never. He looks at the phone, and Brad asks if it’s him. Lucas says, yeah, and Brad asks what he said. Lucas reads, ha-ha! you know who it is. Brad says they’ve clearly confused him with someone else, and Brad tells him, give it up. He got caught. Brad says he didn’t do anything. He’d never jeopardize their marriage. He reaches to touch Lucas, who backs up. Brad swears on Wiley; he’d never cheat on Lucas. Doesn’t Lucas believe him?

Obrecht tells Maxie that she’s off. They’re free to commence canoodling. Maxie says that’s why she can’t quit Obrecht. Who says things like that? Obrecht thanks Maxie. She’s glad they’re in a good place. Maxie says, her too. James misses her, and she asks if Obrecht wants to come see him tomorrow. Obrecht says, absolutely. She’ll bring strudel. She leaves, and Maxie tells Peter that he’s deep in his phone zone again. Didn’t they just have a fight about that? Peter says, they did, and she says the Franco/Drew hearing is over. What’s captured his attention now?

Michael asks if there’s any chance Sasha might be interested in working at ELQ. Sasha says it would change their dynamic. Making it on her own is important for her. Michael says then it’s important to him too. They gaze into each other’s eyes.

Laura says, everything happened so fast, she didn’t consider Avery’s custody might be affected. Julian says, now is Sonny’s chance to take Avery away from Ava. Laura says she and Sonny are good friends. She can talk to him, but Julian says, now is not the time to kick up the hornet’s nest. He’ll think of something. Laura says, there’s no need. She can do this.

Obrecht sends Brad a text saying they have to make sure to cover their tracks.

Brad asks Lucas, why would he risk their whole life together for a random guy? It’s just a misunderstanding. He’ll prove it. Please, Lucas has to believe him. He loves Lucas so much. Brad’s phone dings, and Brad looks at it and frowns. Lucas asks, is it him? Brad sees Obrecht’s message saying they have to cover their tracks in the recent fixing of the Gilmore girl’s test. Lucas asks again, is it him? and Brad says, no. Lucas says, let him see, but Brad says, it’s confidential about a patient. Lucas says he’s a doctor, and has access to the same information, but Brad says, it’s a special case. Lucas laughs, and says, of course (🍷) it is. Is it more pictures? Brad says he can explain, but Lucas says he can’t do this anymore tonight. He can’t; just go. Lucas can’t deal with him anymore tonight. Brad says, don’t do this, but Lucas says, go! Brad walks through the room in tears, past Sonny and Carly. Sonny asks, what’s going on? and Brad says, nothing; sorry; goodnight, and jets.

Valentin says he senses hostility, but Nina tells Curtis, don’t worry. She knows what she’s doing. Curtis says they’ll always be friends, especially on the day Valentin gets his due. He’ll always be there. Jordan tells them, enjoy their evening. Curtis steers her out, and she asks where they’re going. He says they’re going to do what they do best. I have no clue if he means detective work or getting busy.

Jax says far be it from him to defend Ava, and Nikolas says, then don’t. Hayden says she’s been helping him, and he says she knew what she stood to gain. Nikolas flashes back again. He tells Jax that he wants to return the estate to its rightful heir. The codicil is hidden on Spoon Island. He can’t search for it, and Jax says, Nikolas wants him to? Nikolas says he’s well-respected, and has a daughter there. He has every reason to go back. Jax asks what’s in it for him? and Nikolas says, the shipping division in Cassadine Industries, but Jax says their family feuds are unpredictable and rarely profitable, but he’d like Spencer to have the fortune he’s entitled to. Nikolas says, conscientious of him, and Jax says he’d once claimed Spencer as his own. He’ll never forget the four months he had with Spencer. Nikolas is sure that Jax has Spencer’s best interests at heart, and asks if they have a deal. Jaz says, for Spencer’s sake. But he will take the shipping division. Nikolas wants to present the third member of their venture, and says, you can come out now. Hayden comes out, and Nikolas introduces her to Jax, saying, this is his new partner. In the present, Hayden says she promised to do everything in her power for Spencer. Have no fear, dear husband, we will.

Jax asks if they’ve figured out how to resolve their marital situation, but Hayden says, not yet. It’s tricky, divorcing a dead man. Nikolas says they had a less than healthy relationship, and Hayden says, understood, but here they are joining forces. Nikolas flashes back to Hayden telling Jax that Nikolas tried to have her killed, but they’re still married. Nikolas says, technically, she’s his wife and widow. Jax asks if Nikolas trusts Hayden 100%, and Nikolas says, she’s always had a soft spot for Spencer, and when they uncover the codicil, she’ll get a generous cut of the fortune. In the present, Hayden says she had reservations about working with Nikolas, and him showing up doesn’t inspire confidence. Nikolas says he’s going to take what’s his back, and leave Valentin with nothing.

Valentin and Nina toast to everything falling into place. Obrecht approaches their table, and says it’s good to see her lovely niece. She was told Nina has chosen not to pursue the charges against Sasha, and wants Nina to know she had nothing to do with Sasha’s plan. She only knew Sasha was a fraud for a short time before Lulu overheard them talking. Nina says she believes Obrecht, and Obrecht says she’s most grateful. Consider this a formal apology for not telling Nina immediately. She wants to get back to where they were before the whole saga erupted. It would mean so much her.

Peter tells Maxie that he put his phone on silent and away, so they can focus on her birthday. She says he didn’t answer her question. Why is he attached to his phone? He says he was hoping to have one more present for her. One that she wants. She asks if he’s talking about what she thinks.

Sasha tells Michael that she has a solid resume in tech. Michael says he could get her an interview at the MetroCourt, but she says she won’t let him pressure his mom. He says his mom likes her, and she says, to a point. Carly doesn’t trust her, and Sasha doesn’t blame her. The surest way to alienate Carly is to let Michael pull strings for her.

Laura apologizes to Sonny for dropping in so late, but he says she’s always welcome. She hopes he still feels that way after he finds out what she’s there to talk to him about. She knows Ava is supposed to pick up Avery tomorrow, but it’s not happening. He asks, how come? and Laura says, Ava was involved in an incident at the gallery, and voluntary checked herself into Shadybrook. Sonny says, it’s the best thing for her. She’s been heading for trouble for a long time, since Kiki was killed. Laura repeats that Ava went voluntarily, but Sonny says it makes him wonder if she should be allowed near Avery in her state of mind.

Carly asks Lucas if everything is okay. They saw Brad take off. Lucas says, good, and she asks, what’s going on? He says Brad is cheating on him.

Julian ponders, and Brad flies in, saying thank God Julian is there. He and Lucas got in a big fight, and Lucas kicked him out. He’s convinced Brad is having an affair. Julian says, he’s not? and Brad says, never. Julian says he thought Brad would, and Brad asks how Julian can say that. Julian says, it all adds up. He got caught yelling Michael’s name in his sleep; he’s seeing a shrink and getting meds; and a secret admirer sent him flowers. Then he changed his password. Brad says Julian convinced him to change it. Julian says, and someone is sending Brad nude photos. Brad asks how he knew, and Julian taps his phone. Brad says, it was him? Why? Why is Julian doing this to him?

Peter asks what Maxie thinks he’s talking about, and she says their dream apartment. He says he put a bid on it, and Lucy was supposed to call back shortly. He was hoping she’d call before dinner. Maxie wonders what’s taking so long, and he says the board is taking a closer look at his application. Maxie says, co-op boards are notoriously strict, but Peter says he can see why he’d be a hard sell. They want to keep the building trouble free and tranquil. She says, he is, but he says, not everyone thinks so. His phone rings, and he says, it’s Lucy.

Sasha tells Michael, there’s only one way to get back in his parents’ good graces on her own; to work hard and prove herself. She’s ready. Michael says he knows a woman who’s ready to hire her, and Sasha says, she knows. Lucy. But Sasha doesn’t like the idea of being the face of Deception. The idea of capitalizing on what she did to Nina feels wrong. He thinks she should tell Lucy; she’ll understand.

Laura tells Sonny that Julian is afraid he’s going to use Ava’s illness against her to try and get full custody. She was in the same situation once, and she’s glad she didn’t lose her children over that. Sonny is sympathetic to all that, but right now Ava isn’t equipped to take care of Avery. Laura says, right now. The situation is temporary. Tell her that he’s not going to use it as an excuse to take Ava’s daughter away.

Carly tells Lucas, a lot of Brad’s behavior sounds shady, but it doesn’t prove Brad is having an affair. Lucas says, he’s been acting weird for over a year. When he asked what Brad was doing, he caught Brad holding on to a big secret.

Brad asks why Julian is turning on him, and Julian says Brad is spiraling, and constantly putting their secret in jeopardy. He’s calling out Michael’s name in his sleep, so Julian is cleaning things up. He staged the affair to protect Lucas. It will hurt Lucas less than the truth coming out. He wants Brad to leave town with his imaginary lover, and get as far away from his son as possible.

At the hospital, Jordan tells Curtis when he said they were going to do what they do best, she thought he meant something more intimate, not checking lab results at GH. He says he has to find out how Valentin got away with doing it. She says he could do it tomorrow, but he says, it can’t wait. Jordan says, so it will prove Sasha’s not Nina’s daughter; then what? Curtis says they’ll keep digging. A technician comes out, and hands Curtis an envelope.

Obrecht tells Nina that Maxie has forgiven her for not speaking up sooner. She hopes Nina will do the same in time. They have a small family, and Nathan would want them stick together, if only for his son. Nina says she’d like to put the whole ugly mess behind her, and move on as a family again. For James’s sake. Obrecht says, yes, and they hug. Valentin stares at Obrecht.

Hayden says Nikolas can’t be serious. He’s considering staying? Nikolas says he’s decided, and Jax says he never agreed to hide Nikolas. Nikolas says Jax is free to walk away any time, but where does that leave Spencer and Nina?

Sonny tells Laura that he and Carly will take good care of Avery while Ava is recuperating. She says she doesn’t hear Sonny saying he won’t go for full custody, and he says he’s not sure. He asks when Laura joined team Ava, and she says she didn’t. That’s not what’s happening here. Ava has been though sheer hell, and Laura can’t help but feel for her. She’s suffered the worst kind of loss; she doesn’t have to tell Sonny that. He thanks her for stopping by, and she thanks him for listening. He says, always, and she leaves.

Carly says, if Brad is having an affair, Lucas has a lot to think about. She suggests he spend the night, but he doesn’t want to put them out. Carly says there’s a room upstairs with his name on it, across from where Wiley is sleeping. He asks if she’s sure it’s okay, and she says, of course (🍷). Whatever is going on with Brad, he’ll get through it. They hug.

Julian says the best thing Brad can do for Lucas and Wiley is to leave. Brad says, it will break up Wiley’s family, but Julian says, Wiley still has a father. Going against Julian won’t go well for Brad. The next time he sees Brad, he’d better be on his way out of town. Stop by first to tell him the marriage is over. Got that?

Peter thanks Lucy for letting him know. He tells Maxie that he didn’t get the property. She asks, why? and he says the co-op board thinks he’s too risky. His past is catching up again. Maxie says they’re better off. Who wants snobby neighbors? He says he’s sorry. He thought it would be a special birthday surprise, but she says she doesn’t need it. It’s still a beautiful night. He says she’s a good sport, and she says she’s an even better roommate. Let her show him. Move in to her place.

Michael says Lucy wants Sasha, and Sasha has the power to negotiate. She can stipulate that she won’t use her reputation or exploit Nina. Sasha wants a simpler life, like the one she had before. She wants him to know the woman she used to be. He hopes she’s not too different, and Sasha says, she’s way better. He asks how that’s possible, and she tells him, stay tuned and find out. They kiss.

Curtis and Jordan look at the test, and Curtis asks what Jordan thinks. She says she can’t believe it either.

Nina says now that Obrecht got her emotional, she has to check her makeup. Obrecht says, sorry not sorry, and Nina leaves for the bathroom. Obrecht says doesn’t Valentin look pleased, but he hasn’t quite reached his happily ever after. The DNA sample is still on file at GH. If the lab runs the test again, the results will show that Sasha is Nina’s daughter. Imagine the questions that will follow.

Curtis says, Sasha is definitely Nina’s daughter, and Jordan wonders why the test results say that. Curtis says, something is wrong, and they can bet Valentin is behind it.

Obrecht says there will be an inquiry as to how the sample was passed to Sasha. He says Obrecht isn’t in the clear; she’s just as involved. She says, perhaps, but she has far less to lose. Nina watches them talking. I think Nina might be playing Valentin.

Nikolas says if Hayden and Jax can pull it off, fine, but if not, wrap it up immediately. Hayden says they’re all on the same page. The sooner they get it done, the sooner they bring that bastard to his knees.

Tomorrow, Julian wants it to be like Brad never existed, Carly tells Josslyn there will be consequences, and Kim says she needs help.

Below Deck

27 hours before charter. Ashton tries to get Abbi on the radio. Tanner asks if he got Abbi’s text. She said she didn’t know if she’d be up by 9, and needs a toilet nearby. We see, yes, she does. Ashton wonders where the blip she gets off, and says she’s not on vacation. She gets to be a deckhand. It’s her primary job. I just have to say it. Because of his accent, every time Ashton says deckhand, I think he’s saying d*ckhead.

Kevin sings about winning as he works. Kate asks if Courtney is open to Brian, but she says, no. In Courtney’s interview, she says he’s hot, but she doesn’t get with people until she knows them better. She wants to know his personality, so she’s overlooking his body. Abbi continues to get sick. Ashton tells Tanner, sorry he’s alone, but Abbi is hugging the toilet. Abbi gets dressed, puts on some makeup, and comes out. She says she feels better, and apologizes. She says she threw up at 8:30, and needed some extra time. Ashton tells her that he’s been pretty lenient. You have to understand what your limits are. If you can’t drink and still keep up, you have to manage yourself. It’s not fair to the crew. Abbi admits she drank too much. In her interview, she says Ashton has a point, but rules are not her forte. Um… marry a rich guy then, and don’t work?

Time for the preference sheet meeting. Captain Lee says there will be eight guests. The primary’s name is Mccall, and she’s bringing girlfriends to join her. She’s a doctor, and addicted to charters. They want to enjoy all the water toys, and they’re big drinkers. Normally, they run out of alcohol on a boat. In Kate’s interview, she’s relieved it’s an all girl charter that loves to drink. It’s like an adult slumber party, and they’ll just pass out. The captain says they want a tasting menu, and Kevin says he’ll try not to disappoint them. The captain says presentation is everything, and Kevin asks what about presentation on the last meal? Captain Lee says he wasn’t impressed with it. Kevin should be blowing their socks off. In Kevin’s interview, he says, to be honest, he thinks he pissed the captain off in a way besides the food. None of the charter guests said there was anything wrong, but the only way to retaliate is to hit him where it hurts – his food. Kevin thanks the captain for his honest feedback, and Captain Lee says if Kevin doesn’t want an honest answer, he’s not the guy to come to.

The davit is fixed. Abbi tells Tanner that Ashton overreacted. In Tanner’s interview, he says his game plan is to plant seeds, and see if they grow. Kate’s garden died quickly.

Patrick and Abbi text. In her interview, Abbi say she’s been naïve and stupid, thinking Patrick is just a boyfriend. The reality is, they have something special. Being around a bunch of hot guys made her realize that she’s not attracted to anybody else. Abbie tells Simone and Courtney that she and Patrick just got engaged. He told her that he loved her in a text, she said her too, and he asked her to marry him. In Abbi’s interview, she says it may be abrupt, but she’s going with her gut feeling. In Courtney’s interview, she says Abbi and Patrick have been together two years, and suddenly say they love each other via text. Her eyes are rolling off the boat. Everyone goes to bed. Abbi tells Kate that her Greek captain is coming to Boston after the charter season, and they’re getting married. In Kate’s interview, she says, millennials are cute. Do you want to get dinner, and maybe spend the rest of your life with me?

Kevin calls his sister. He needs support, since he’s feeling emotional. He’s the only boy in the family, and has three sisters. He was the baby of the house, and thinks he still is. He tells her that the captain said he’s not good enough. No way you can say that to a chef and expect them to hang around.  Yep. He’s definitely still a baby. In his interview, he wonders if he should stay or hop off the boat. Then the captain can cook. I see he’s a  true professional as well. His sister tells him not to let the stress and bother get in the way of what he’s doing. In Kevin’s interview, he says he keeps playing it over in his head. He’s been hard at work, and Captain Lee is saying he’s not good enough. The captain is playing with his head. His sister says she doesn’t want to see him on her doorstep three days from now. Kevin is such an a-hole. Working hard and doing his best is not having no seafood for a seafood extravaganza, or eating the captain’s entrée. In his interview, Kevin says he’s giving the guests ten courses in the tasting menu. He wants it to be really impressive.

Tanner says, something is wrong. He’s feeling the worst he’s ever felt; he feels like sh*t. Abbi tells the other deckhands that she’s getting married. In his interview, Ashton thinks it’s bizarre. They spent time trying to hook up, and he can’t believe it. This changes things. The provisions arrive. Hopefully, there’s food. Kate says the guests want a beer in their hands all day. Brain knows the feeling. Tanner cracks his head on an overhang. In his interview, he says he’s not 100%. Ashton tells Tanner to let him know how he’s feeling at the end of the day. Kevin says he’s making gnocchi from scratch, and Kate says, that changes everything. She’ll need to have some. The crew changes into their whites, and drinks are made. Kate has an armful of leis ready.

The guests start squealing before they even get to the boat. Captain lee tells the crew, they can still get away if they hurry. Kate puts a lei on everyone, and a guest says she hasn’t been lei’d in a while. It must be some sort of requirement to make a joke like that. In her interview, Kate says she loves an all woman charter. They just come on to get loose, happy, and drink wine. There are lots of woo! Sounds, and Courtney makes faces. The guests marvel over the boat, and jump on the beds.

The table is set, and the women scream over Ashton, and tells him if he wants to take his shirt off, it’s okay with them. Ashton says they’re going to be trouble. Tanner gets a break, and Kevin fries up the gnocchi. He says he’s thinking that the captain doesn’t think he does a good job, and he’s sweating bullets. Lunch is served. Ashton asks how Tanner is doing, and Tanner says, better; he’s there. Ashton tells him they’re putting out the water toys. One of the guests says, it’s gonna happen, referring to Ashton, and when she’s out of hearing range, Kate says, so gross.

Anchor is locked. Abbi chats with the guests, telling them she’s from Boston. They scream, which seems to  be their natural reaction to everything. Ashton calls her again. Brian thinks Ashton is jealous after hearing about the engagement thing. Abbi tells Ashton that the clients want to jump off the bow, so that’s where they’re headed. He tells Abbi to get the swim platform set up. In Ashton’s interview, he says, since the engagement, Abbi has been distracted. Her work ethic wasn’t the best to begin with, and she needs to get more focused. Simone is back in the laundry room, and Kate asks if she want out of the laundry hole for a while. Simone says, hallelujah, and Kate says she can tell. Simone can help Courtney. In Kate’s interview, she says, Simone is good at laundry, and likes it, but if you stay there too long, you can lose the upbeat attitude real quick. She’s done it.

Ashton goes to the bow, and the guests says he should probably take his shirt off. He jumps into the water with them. Tanner manages to get out of bed. Kevin studies his menu, and goes over it with Kate. Simone and Abbi are talking nearby, and he asks them to take it somewhere else. In Kevin’s interview, he says, this dinner is important. He can do it; he just has to focus. He goes through all ten courses with Kate, and she makes notes. She thinks ten courses is strong. In her interview, she says she’s quickly learning that every meal is a roller coaster of Kevin’s ego. It’s Kevin’s boat; they’re just on it. She asks Courtney to do laundry.

In Courtney’s interview, she says she’s in service, and constantly doing laundry is boring, mind-numbing, dirty, and she’s bad at it. Her ex did all her laundry. The slide is put away, and Abbi whines that she’s had no break and got up at 6 am. In her interview, Abbi says she’s not used to this sh*t. On a sailboat, they have one paddle board, and it’s never deflated. Here, they have a trampoline and slide. Is it a jungle gym or a boat? Tanner feels lightheaded, and Ashton tells him, go to bed.

The guests get ready for dinner. Captain Lee checks out the menu, and Kevin explains about some kind of Bloody Mary dressing he’s making. In the captain’s interview, he says he’s expecting Kevin to deliver better food. A ten course menu is a big bite of the apple; so many things can go south. If Kevin doesn’t step up to the plate, he’ll fire him. Kevin wonders since when they captain has been so interested in the food, and Kate says, when Kevin decided to make ten amazing courses.

Kevin says he’s getting nervous. Kate says if he’s nervous, she’s nervous. In Kevin’s interview, he says a lot of people probably want him to sink tonight, but it’s not going to happen. Kate tells the guests, the first course – a cucumber salad with the Bloody Mary dressing – is to awaken the palate. The captain checks to see how Kevin is doing. Everything looks fabulous, and Captain Lee says he loves it. One of the guests says she needs to marry this man. Kate tells Kevin that they’re loving it. Abbi talks to her new fiancé on the phone. He’s happy and looking forward to getting married forever and ever. And if they get a divorce, these will still have been the best years. In her interview, Abbi says, since the engagement, she’s always thinking about Patrick now. In Courtney’s interview, she says when she thinks about her last meal on earth – and she thinks about it often – it has ten courses, but normally, that would be too much. It’s not like they’re huge dishes though. They’re actually quite small. Like a couple of bites. The guests tell Kate that they wouldn’t be disappointed if he did a striptease, and she says she’ll be happy to tell him. Kate tells Ashton that the guests have a big request. They want him to strip. He says he’s hung up his G-string, and does some gyrations. Kate tells him, his mouth is saying no, but his pelvis is saying yes. In Ashton’s interview, he says, when he was younger, he did a male review. It comes naturally. The captain watches Kevin work. In his interview, Captain Lee says, it’s a step in the right direction. They’ll see if he can keep it up. He tells Kevin that he’s having dinner with the guests tomorrow.

Kate tells Ashton to bring out the eleventh course. He comes out, and says he heard he had a request. He tells them he usually asks for a volunteer, and one of the guests gets in a chair up front. He says he’s going to show them the fundamentals you have to remember when doing a lap dance. First, you learn how to touch yourself. He does some moves, and they scream. He bumps and grinds, and in Kate’s interview, she says, you can take the boy out of the strip club dance group, but you can never take the strip club group out of the boy. Ashton says, last, but not least, you say thank you, and he kisses her hand. In his interview, Ashton says, memorable moments can mean the difference between a $15K and $20K tip. Kate tells him, good job.

Kevin wishes it was the final night. In his interview, he says he proved himself. Good on him. Now he’s thinking about dinner for the captain tomorrow night. He’s walking into the lion’s den. Ashton wonders why the deck hasn’t been mopped. Brian is the guy he counts on, and Ashton has been busting his ass on deck, while Brian is flirting with Courtney, and munching on Kevin’s leftovers. He’s employed as a deckhand, not a sous chef. Ashton kind of jumps down Brian’s throat, and Brian thinks Ashton is being unfair. In Ashton’s interview, he says, Tanner isn’t well, Abbi is mucking around, and it feels like the wheels are falling off the bus. Brian says they’re supposed to be a team, and Ashton says that’s his point. Brian says he works hard. He’s sorry he missed something, but he’s not perfect. Ashton says, it’s simple stuff, and Brian is saying he’s wrong for bringing it up. In Ashton’s interview, he says he has to put his foot down. He can’t have Brian help inside; it’s not his job. He’s trying be fair, but Brian needs to stop focusing on the interior. It pains him to speak to Brian this way, but as bosun, he has to speak to him about it. Then Brian has audacity to say he’s unfair, and it gets Ashton’s back up. In Brian’s interview, he wonders what this bullsh*t is about. He doesn’t know where it’s coming from, since he pushes himself to the limit every day. Dude, relax. Wtf?

Kevin tells Kate he made granola with his sweat and blood. She says she’ll use her tears as a garnish. Breakfast – my favorite meal – is served. The women start eating, and it gets very quiet. One of them says, food clearly shuts them up. Ashton thinks maybe he came across wrong to Brian, and tells Brian that he appreciates his hard work. If he came across otherwise, he apologizes. He just wants Brian to channel his efforts on the exterior. In Ashton’s interview, he says, bosuning is hard. You have to manage your own emotions and everyone else’s. He’s still trying to figure it out.

Tanner is still not well. He says he feels like absolute dog sh*t. He just wants to relax and watch cartoons. The guests don’t give a f**k if you’re sick, so you’ve got to suck it up and get through it. He goes into the bathroom and throws up.

Kate calls Simone to the galley, and tells her tonight isn’t a ten-course meal, so she can be the alternate, and next charter be on service more. In Simone’s interview, she says she’s looking forward to doing service with Kate and furthering her career. She’s mostly been doing housekeeping for the last two years, and she’s ready for service. She helps Kate serve drinks. Tanner comes out to the crew mess, and says, it’s nice being able to eat; he had nothing yesterday. Ashton tells the deckhands that they need to be more detail oriented. He feels some of them have their heads in the clouds instead of paying attention to details. Tanner says, sounds good, and Ashton says he doesn’t want anyone doing things they’re not enjoying. In Abbi’s interview, she says she loves how he basically singled her out. He can’t expect everyone else to be like him. Tanner tells her that he doesn’t think it was directed toward her. In her interview, Abbi says she wants to be positive, but it’s really hard.

Kevin preps some fish, Tanner says he’s dehydrated, and Abbi can’t stop eating. Brian asks if something is up, and she says she thinks she’s depressed. Tanner asks if it’s the work itself, but Abbi says she doesn’t like the vibe. She wants to get past it and move on. Brian says it happens a lot on charters, and Tanner says it’s always like a roller coaster. In Abbi’s interview, she says she eats when she’s stressed, and she hates this job.

Courtney tells Kate that Abbi doesn’t like the job. Kate says Abbi isn’t depressed; she’s just a brat. Courtney agrees. Ashton tells the deckhands to bring the toys in, and asks Abbi to help with the slide. Simone passes out beer, while Ashton and Tanner take a couple of guests out on the jet skis. Brain tells Abbi that she has to focus, but she doesn’t know what he’s asking for. She gets weepy, and tells Simone that Brian is being a d*ck, and she wants to leave. She starts to cry, and says she’s always so happy. She’s sick of this sh*t, and thinks she needs to quit. Well, she’s not the first one who didn’t like it when they realized it was actual work.

Next time, Captain Lee didn’t see this coming, Abbi doesn’t like the job, Tanner is still sick, the captain expects Kevin to go big or he will be going home, and beef tongue doesn’t go over well with the guests.

⏰ Better Wake Up Now…

I hit the snooze. For the impatient, the bulk of the song starts at around 4:00.
