General Hospital
I shot an arrow into the air, and where it landed was on a GH Flashback from November 10th, 2004.
Sam was hooked up to machines in the hospital while Jason kept watch. Literal toddler Kristina was in the same position, awaiting surgery, while Alexis kept watch. Ric showed up with a restraining order to keep Sonny from seeing Kristina. Luke was still in the opening credits, but walked away in the group shot, but I don’t know if that was some kind of statement – about the show, Tony Geary, or both – or actually prophetic.
At first, I thought Nikolas had a twin, but it turned out to be lookalike Connor, who I remember zero about. Old Mike was working at Kelly’s. Courtney told Lois (I remember her!) that Sonny was really Kristina’s father, and Mike said Carly knew, but had kept it to herself. Sam was unconscious, and had lost a baby girl, and Elizabeth looked like she was twelve. Sonny tore up the restraining order, and told Ric that he’d wreck anyone who came between him and his daughter. He’d already lost one daughter, and wasn’t losing Kristina. Little Michael said he knew Sonny was sad about losing the baby, and Sonny reassured Michael that he and Morgan were safe. Michael asked if he was mad at God, but Sonny said he didn’t blame anybody, and told Michael, no matter how hard times get, family has to love each other. Michael asked how they could help, and Sonny said, be kind to each other. He told Michael, a way to respect losing someone precious was letting go, no matter how hard it was. He said, eventually they’d have to get on with their lives, but not today.
Alexis told Ric he was all kinds of wrong, and to focus on Kristina. Elizabeth told Jason that Sam’s feelings would be complicated, and not to let her deal with having planned for the baby’s homecoming alone. Jason said they already had a nursery set up, and Elizabeth said they’d prepared together, so they should mourn together. She said Sam was going to look for someone to blame, and hold herself responsible. Emily nursed Connor’s wound, and told him being a doctor was a dream of hers. He said he gave himself reasons for walking out of the military, but wondered if he really was just a deserter and his reasons were baloney. Courtney told Jason, when they’d lost their baby, he held her together and she wanted to help him now. Lois told Alcazar that Kristina was Sonny’s daughter, and Carly knew, but hadn’t told Sonny. She didn’t think Sonny was going to forgive Carly, and they’d be getting divorced, but Alcazar didn’t think Sonny was in a position to criticize. Kim was still old Carly, and Sonny told her that he was grateful Sam’s baby was going to give Kristina the stem cell infusion she needed. Carly said they were family, and she’d always want to help and support him, whether they’re married or not. Courtney told Jason that Elizabeth was right. He needed to help Sam, and they had to give themselves time to grieve. Potential parenthood had changed him, and Sam loved him. She said if he needed anything, she was there, and Jason said he’d be okay.
Lois told Alcazar that Sonny would go to the ends of the earth to protect his family, but she didn’t think he’d take Carly back. She’d broken a cardinal rule, and lied about family. She wondered if Alcazar would go back to Carly. Carly’s dad John, aka Corbin Bernsen, brought Carly and little Michael to a house, and tried to entice Michael with a skateboarding ramp in the backyard. Michael wasn’t having it, and said he’d wait in the car. Carly said she knew John wanted her to move away from Sonny. Jason told Sonny that Dr. Webber said Sam should have come out of it by now, but Sonny thought maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Jason said he wanted to be the one to tell Sam the baby was gone.
John told Carly that he bought the house for her. She said she wanted to take care of herself, but took the keys anyway, and John left. Sonny told Jason that he thought he’d had an understanding with Sam. She trusted him, even though he’d disappointed her. Jason said Sam always respected Sonny’s choice to stay with his family, and wasn’t angry about it.
Connor had a bad dream, and Courtney told him that he was safe. He said he was dreaming about his buddy Casey, who’d died because of him. He’d watched Casey die. Michael told Carly that he wanted to go home, and live with dad. Carly explained if she and Sonny couldn’t work it out, they would need to move out, and she thought this was a nice place. That was, until Alcazar called to her from the porch. Kristina made it through her surgery, and Sam woke up. Jason told her about the baby, as we watched (but couldn’t hear) through the window. Sam screamed, no! as Jason tried to comfort her.
🤷🏽♀️ If You’re As Clueless As I Am…
I don’t know if I wasn’t watching during these time periods, or I just wasn’t paying attention, but a lot of the characters are a mystery to me. So meet, or refresh your memory about, Connor and Courtney.
💰 On Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, we got another tour of the mountainside mansion known as the Razor House, that the Joshes described as not just architecture, but a piece of art. Some of the amenities included a smart home system – or as JoshF called it, an expensive light switch – an open floor plan, floor to ceiling glass (all of the windows had shields that could be brought down to cover them), a glass elevator, a subterranean garage, a rooftop terrace, and an infinity pool and hot tub. Going for a mere $25 million. They met with architect Wallace Cunningham, and we found out the house was the inspiration for Tony Stark’s house in Ironman.
James and David took on a listing for a house from 1914 that the owner had totally revamped, having to contend with the Historical Preservation Society, and being restricted as to what overlays could be used. The owner wanted $3 million because of the sweat and cash he’d sunk into it, but that brought the cost to $1250 a square foot, when most of the neighborhood was going for $800. It was one of those houses that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is fabulous inside. David and James talked owner Joey into a price reduction, telling him that potential buyers didn’t care about the hoops he’d had to jump through to renovate. Joey was stubborn, but agreed to $2.495 million.
Tracy was ready for a new chapter in her life, and decided to sell her own house. Her divorce had been finalized, and they were sharing custody, so she’d only have her daughters 50% of the time. She explained she’d fallen in love with the house while showing it, and had thought it would be her forever home. They’d paid $13 million, but she wanted $24, and was tweaking it to perfection before putting it on the market. Thinking she’d be too emotionally attached, she told her team they would be taking the listing. In wanting to keep her family life private, she informed them that the kids were not going to be on the show. She did want them to be part of the process of looking for a new place though.
In their dual interview, JoshA asked JoshF what superhero he’d be, and JoshF said, Barbie. I’m not sure if Barbie applies, but he also said his superpower would be Ken. The Joshes got ready to hold a black tie broker’s open. In the meantime, David and James were offered $2.1 million, and talked Joey into countering with $2.3. It always amazes me when they dicker over $100-200K, when they’re ultimately talking millions. The buyer’s broker pointed out there was no garage, and gave a best and final offer of $2.25. A deal was made, and the guys made a commission of $56,250. While that could be a yearly salary for a normal human, they do put in a lot of work.
JoshA said they were pulling out all the stops for the brokers open, where both he and JoshF hosted. He said JoshF was an acquired taste, and just when you think he’s normal, something gets blurted out, and you’re like, what planet are you from? The Joshes chest bumped over their success. In his interview, JoshF enlightened us that few brokers showed trophy listings, so they had to bus them in like cattle, renting two party buses. When one broker told JoshF the house was amazing, he said, thank you; I built it, and I had to laugh, since that sounded like something I would say. David cornered Tracy at the open house, asking JoshA to give them a moment, and accused her of talking smack about him when they’d both been up for a listing. Tracy said she’d merely pointed out that she’d made an effort to show up to talk to the seller personally, rather than sending one of her team as he had. JoshA wondered what was going on, but James pleaded ignorance. In JoshA’s interview, he said, you can’t mess with Tracy; she’s a bad-ass bitch. He was sure David was going to tuck his tail and run back to England. Tracy told David, if he’d really wanted it, he should have gone himself. He said she’d also inferred that he wasn’t interested in properties that were less than $10 million, and she said it wasn’t smack; she’d just told the truth. The Joshes and James joined them, everyone talking at once, until JoshA put an end to it, by saying they talked sh*t about each other all the time; just never put it in writing. The Joshes high-fived each other.

🎭 In Case It’s Still Important…
I haven’t watched the Oscars since… I don’t remember, but no judgement on those who still enjoy them. You’ll have to wait until next year though.

General Hospital
Today, GH closed its eyes, and stuck a pin in October 12th, 2016. Morgan had gotten blown up getting out of Julian’s car (that he’d stolen). Drew still thought he was Jason, and was working for Sonny. Tracy was on the scene, and told Monica that she’d been barred from the board meeting, and they wanted to sell the hospital to investors who would put up luxury condos.
A huge fishing hook had been found in the boathouse door, and Kiki thought it was Morgan because he’d seen her with Dillon, but Olivia thought it was Julian, who she assumed was mad because he’d seen Olivia with Ned. Ava told Kiki about Morgan, and Kiki thought she was making it up. Bobbie tried to help Carly, who said Morgan had been expelled from PCU, and she had to help him get through it. When Carly saw Sonny’s coat, covered in mud, Bobbie told her that Sonny had gone in the water after the accident, looking for Morgan. No pun intended, it all came flooding back to Carly.
In the middle of the station, Michael asked Sonny how a bomb got into Julian’s car, and Dante suggested they take it somewhere private. An officer gave Morgan’s phone to Dante, saying it had been recovered at the crash site. Michael wondered if Sonny had sent a message to whoever was trying to take over the business, and wanted to hear Sonny wasn’t the reason Morgan was dead.
Dante told Carly the car had exploded, and when she asked who’d want to hurt Morgan, he said it wasn’t Morgan’s car. He told Carly that the bartender had taken Morgan’s keys from him, and Carly asked if he’d been manic. Dante said TJ had tried to give Morgan a ride, but Morgan punched TJ, and saw a car with the keys in it. He had no idea it was Julian’s car. TJ told Jason, who went after Morgan, and saw the whole thing. Carly wondered why the car exploded, and Dante told her there had been a bomb in it, but it hadn’t been meant for Morgan. It had been meant for Julian. She asked if Sonny had anything to do with the bomb, but Dante didn’t want to answer, which told Carly everything she needed to know. Dante said he knew she was grieving, but he couldn’t say anything that would implicate his father. He gave Carly Morgan’s phone.
Ava told Kiki that Morgan had been drinking, but she didn’t know how he’d gotten into Julian’s car. Kiki was convinced Morgan had seen her and Dillon, but Ava told her that mental illness was hard to understand sometimes. Michael got seriously pissed at Sonny, saying Sonny had put it in motion by giving the order. He told Sonny that Sabrina had said vengeance would cost him the rest of his life, and asked Sonny if was worth it. Lulu, Laura, and Olivia were having lunch at the MetroCourt. Dante called Lulu, asking her to meet him, and she left thinking they were going to have quality time. Kiki told Dillon about Morgan.
Ned told Olivia that he thought Julian was behind the fishhook, but either way, Julian knew they were a couple. Olivia wondered why Ned wanted to keep their relationship a secret. Carly charged the phone, and saw Morgan’s screensaver picture of him and Kiki. Kiki told Dillon, Morgan must have snapped when he saw them together. Dillon said they hadn’t done anything, and not to put Morgan’s mental issues on herself. Drew/Jason visited the Quartermaines’ to tell them about Morgan. Tracy said, this is what happens when the city turns a blind eye to violence. It was the result of Sonny’s never ending pursuit of revenge. Drew/Jason tried to defend Sonny, but Tracy said he’d lost the right to an opinion when he turned his back on the family. Monica wasn’t having it, and said, enough.
Lulu went to the station, and saw Dante freaking out in the interrogation room. He told her that he might have to arrest his father for killing Morgan. Carly listened to the messages on Morgan’s phone. She heard her own voice telling Morgan, it was only a setback, and they figured he needed time alone. He could rise above it, and learn from his mistakes and move on. Sonny walked in while she was listening, and she said it was the voicemail she’d left for Morgan. He’d never gotten it because he got in a car, and a bomb blew him up.
Olivia told Ned that she thought Julian was just an excuse. If they tell people, it becomes real, and if it’s real, she can screw it up. Ned said screwing up was a two-way street, and he’d been known to do it himself. Then they publicly kissed. Ava told Bobbie that she was sorry for Bobbie’s loss, and Bobbie asked if Ava ever loved Morgan. He didn’t know any better. Ava said she loved Morgan very much. He was the only one who was good to her, and now everyone who was, was gone.
Lulu told Dante maybe it had nothing to do with Sonny, but Dante said it wasn’t the first time one of Sonny’s kids got caught in the crossfire. Morgan was the first Corinthos Dante met when he came to town, and he had his whole life ahead of him. Monica declared it a senseless tragedy, and Michael said they needed to be a family now, even Tracy. Tracy apologized for being harsh, but Michael said she was just being a Quartermaine. Michael told Drew/Jason that he blamed himself; he should have noticed Morgan was struggling. Drew/Jason said it wasn’t on Michael, but Michael said Morgan was manic because they weren’t paying attention. It contributed to Morgan spiraling, but whoever gave the order is the one who killed Morgan. Drew/Jason said Michael’s father might not have anything to do with it, but Michael asked if he really believed that.
Carly said Sonny couldn’t help himself. He had to finish Julian. She showed Sonny a picture of Morgan as a child, and smashed it, saying, now Morgan was dead, and Sonny killed him. Sonny wept alone.

And the GH Flashback roulette wheel says… October 15th, 2015. I heard on an ad that this week is the best of Sonny and Carly, which brings cohesion to the randomness. Sonny surprised Carly with a wedding in the hospital chapel, that Maxie jumped through hoops to put together in record time. Josslyn and Kristina looked like babies, Sabrina attended with Michael, and Josslyn played the Wedding March on the flute. I assumed it was actually her playing, and was impressed, since the flute is very difficult to master.
Paul showed up at the gallery, while trying to set up Anna via text using the name Sloane. Paul told Ava to be prepared for the dismantling of the Corinthos organization. His plan was about to come to fruition. He told Ava that Carrrlos’s fate and Anna’s were going to dovetail (who uses that word, except in reference to carpentry?). Ava asked if it was a coincidence, but Paul said it was careful planning. He wanted Ava to launder some money via art collectors he was going to send, but Ava wasn’t keen on the idea. Paul asked if she wanted to go to prison for Connie’s murder, since he had her confession on tape. Ava said she was afraid of losing Avery, and Paul relented, saying he wasn’t heartless, and Ava would be of no use to him if her mind was elsewhere. He told her to deal with the custody case first.
Old Jordan wanted to talk to Anna about Carrrlos’s disappearance, since Anna was the last one to see him. Jordan said her leads had gone cold, and Mayor Lomax was breathing down her neck.
While talking to Dillon at the pier, Maxie saw a body in the water, and Dillon called the police. Jordan determined it was Carrrlos, which wasn’t hard since he’d had his wallet on him. When Paul showed up, she said Carrrlos had been shot at close range. That explained why he avoided detection for so long – he was dead. Yep. That will do it. Paul suggested Sonny had gotten his revenge.
Sonny and Carly said their vows. Sonny told Carly that she saved his life every day, and he was blessed that she chose him. Carly said she’d had a taste of life without him, and promised that neither one of them was going anywhere without the other. Dante’s phone rang during the vows, and he stepped aside to take it. Bobbie suggested Sonny make a change, so no one else would get hurt. Dante told them that Carrrlos had been pulled from the harbor, and he was dead. Sabrina freaked, and Dante went to the station. Morgan told Sonny and Carly that Carrrlos had gotten what he deserved, and Sonny said he didn’t ask for retaliation. Morgan said they were looking at him like they thought he did it, and told them they could think what they wanted to; it was his wedding gift to them, and enjoy it while it lasted. When he left, Sonny told Carly that he thought Morgan wished he had shot Carrrlos, but he would have heard about it if Morgan had done it. He explained that Ava had let the Five Families (not a restaurant) that Carrrlos had shot Sonny and acted alone. The only one who could dispute it was Carrrlos, and he wasn’t talking. Carly said that was convenient for Ava, and Sonny said she was up to her lying neck in it. Sabrina told Michael that she’d known Carrrlos most of his life, and Carrrlos had done awful things, but didn’t deserve to get shot.
Anna went to the gallery, and told Ava that she knew it wasn’t Carrrlos who shot Sonny, since he was on the run for killing Duke. Why would he escape Port Charles, then come back to shoot Sonny? She said Ava claiming that’s what happened implied she had something to hide, and asked who Ava was covering for. Paul called Anna, and told her to meet him at Pier 54.
Nathan assumed that Valerie was pregnant after Maxie found a positive pregnancy test in the trash, and Valerie gave him the business about jumping to conclusions. Valerie saw Maxie in the interrogation room after she gave her statement, and Maxie told her it was like a scene from a scary movie, and kept playing in her head. She told Valerie that she knew Valerie and Dillon were having sex, and Valerie said Dillon was a great guy, but that was a no, and had never happened. Maxie asked whose baby Valerie was worried about carrying. Valerie said she didn’t know what Maxie was talking about, and didn’t think Maxie did either. Maxie said Valerie had thrown a positive pregnancy test in the trash, and Valerie said Maxie had assumed because she was near the trash can, it must be hers. She suggested the next time Maxie decided to go snooping, get her facts straight. In the meantime, Dante told Dillon to stay the hell away from his wife.
Sonny joked that he and Carly were going to Iowa for their honeymoon, and Lulu told Bobbie that she and Dante were in discussion about expanding their family.
Ava told Paul that Sonny knew she’d lied about Carrrlos, and was asking inconvenient questions, but Paul said he had everything under control.
Carly cuddled with Sonny in his hospital room, and Sonny said it wasn’t the way he’d pictured their honeymoon, but it did feel like Des Moines. She thought it was more like Cedar Rapids.
Top Chef – Finale
The chefs were challenged with cooking the meal of their lives. The final three were Bryan, who the crown had eluded for more than a decade; Melissa, who had more wins than anyone; and Stephanie, the private chef underdog, who had proven she had skills to be feared. The prize was a feature in Food and Wine magazine, an appearance at the Food and Wine festival in Aspen, and $250K. Not bad. I love that magazine, and that’s a nice chunk of change. Bryan said he’d slap them in the face with heart and soul, and we flashed back to the Italian chefs saying there was no soul in his food. Padma tasked them with making the best progressive four-course meal of their lives – no twists. They would be serving it to the best chefs from all over world. Kevin, Lee Anne, and Brian full of Malarkey came out to give their support as sous chefs. Gregory would have been there instead of Brian, but he was still battling back issues. The chefs drew knives for picking order, and Stephanie was first, choosing Brian full of Malarkey, for his enthusiasm and skills. Stephanie also admitted that during Restaurant Wars she fell in love with him. Not literally. Brian chose Kevin, who said, let’s get the band back together, which left Melissa with Lee Anne. Melissa said they’d never worked together, but Lee Ann knew Asian flavors, and was a beast in the kitchen. She thought they’d do well. Padma told them they’d be shopping in the food hub of Florence, and would have five hours to prep and cook back at the Renaissance Tuscany. They were to make the meal as cohesive as possible, and Tom said the judges expected nothing but the best.
Melissa said her mission was to marry Asian flavor with what she’d learned in Italy, bringing Italy to her heritage, so it would portray her adventure. While this isn’t ProjectRunway, I have to mention that Lee Anne was wearing the coolest fried-egg-and-bacon crocheted scarf. If I was crafty that way, I’d be making one starting tonight. Bryan said he and Stephanie were yin and yang; their minds were one. In the evening, the judges turned the tables, and Tom, Padma, and Gail did the cooking. The chefs were met outside by Tom, who was doing some rustic farmhouse cooking on the grill, which gave Melissa an idea for her main course. They all sat down to eat together, and Padma wished them luck, telling them to cook their hearts out. After dinner, Stephanie called best friend Kristen, who was also the Season 10 winner. Stephanie said she thought her chances of winning were one in three. Melissa called her mom, and Bryan called his brother Michael.
After three hours in the kitchen, the judges were served the first two courses. You knew it was good by the way they were shoveling it in, especially one guy who reminded me of the drive-in guy Joe Bob Briggs and was wearing a shirt with steer on it. Later, I found out he was an Italian butcher named Dario. Gail said Bryan was a great technician, but this time showed soul and love in his food as well. Drive-in Bob Dario said, mama mia! and the main course came out. Melissa made grilled squab; Bryan went with blackened monkfish; and Stephanie made a veal dish. Padma said the food was universally wonderful, and food editor Nilou Motamed said she didn’t like squab, but was now a convert. At this point, I was pretty sure Melissa was going to win. Then, OMG THE DESSERTS CAME OUT. They were all to die for, and I’m not sure which one I wanted more; Bryan’s dark chocolate and ice cream thing, to which Dario responded, mmm… cardamom; Stephanie’s sticky toffee pudding (I don’t know what the hell that is, but give me two servings); or Melissa’s tea-infused tiramisu with a crunchy topping. When the dinner was done, the chefs applauded themselves, and then the judges applauded them when they were called back out. During the final discussion, Dario teared up over how Melissa respected the Italian traditions with her dessert. He said, a butcher who cries, how embarrassing, prompting one of the other guest judges to come over and give him a hug.
When the chefs were brought out to meet with the usual judges, plus Nilou, for the final time, Tom said he thought they all cooked the best meal of their lives, and Padma said she saw the story of their lives on the plates. She relayed that Hunter Lewis from Food and Wine found Bryan’s beets beguiling. Say that three times real fast. Tom said Bryan had erased the impression that he couldn’t cook with soul and heart. Gail said that Melissa had joined the Asian and Italian cultures, and told her about Dario getting emo over her tiramisu. Melissa said they were all artists who loved hearing that their journeys were understood. Stephanie joked that she was going for fan favorite. She had done damage to people who loved her by being sad, and this showed them that she was okay. Tom said, sometimes the voyage is more important than the destination, because you find out what you’re made of. You have to go deeper, and what comes out is who you are. They all made that journey, but there could only be one Top Chef. Arriving for the announcement were Melissa’s mom, Bryan’s brother, and Stephanie’s husband.
With that, Padma told Melissa, she was Top Chef. In Melissa’s interview, she said it had been a wild adventure, but this time she’d done it for herself, and wasn’t trying to earn her father’s approval. She wanted to prove to herself that she could achieve a goal that she’d set. In Stephanie’s interview, she said she accomplished what she’d wanted to do. She hadn’t felt good about the mental space she was in since her brother died. This would give everyone something else to talk about for a while. In Bryan’s interview, he said he’d learned a lot about himself. There were sixteen Top Chefs, but he was the only one who’d done what he did. He’d been runner-up three times, but was never doing this again. Melissa said, once you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you. She knew it sounded cliché, but the world was her oyster. She could do anything now.
👓 On Watch What Happens Live(@home in the Hamptons – @must be nice), Padma and Tom were guests, and Melissa made an appearance. Padma announced Melissa was also the fan favorite, netting her another $10K. Melissa donated that win to Black Visions Collective, the Trevor Project, and Asian Americans for Equality. And for that, Andy gave the night’s mazel.
While probably none of us will ever have her closet, or will even be able to afford one of her shoes, Sutton sometimes reminds me of how the audience feels. Kind of horrified.
Candyman returns in a spiritual sequel. Tony Todd and Vanessa Williams will be making return appearances, and Jordan Peele wrote the screenplay, so that’s enough for me.
Father’s Day is coming up this weekend, and here’s hoping you have/had a good relationship with yours. My dad was the best. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was ahead of his time, and the fairest person I’ve ever known. Stay safe, stay celebratory, and stay in touch with your family, be they blood relatives or chosen.

General Hospital
Yeah, yeah, not much happens in the first minute.
Nelle folds laundry. A guard tells her to stop; supplies need to be unpacked. She says she’s been on her feet all day, and needs a break. Brad walks in with a box, and says he could really use some help. She says she’ll take a break later.
Curtis tells Jordan that he can take her home soon. She says she can’t wait. He sees the bed littered with paperwork, and says he knows she’s in a hurry to get back to work, but he’s going to play bad cop, and impound the paperwork until the doctor says it’s okay. He looks at it, and says, are these medical bills?
At the Metro Court, Sam asks Jason if he’s sure the adoption can’t be traced. What if something goes wrong, and Willow or Brad slips? Carly tells her, don’t focus on the worst case scenario. It will stress her out. Sam says there’s no way she’s going to let that snake get his hands on Wiley.
Curtis says Jordan Just had surgery, is recovering, and some hospital bean counter drops all this in her lap? She says she asked for the bills. He says they’ll submit them, and insurance will handle them. She says her coverage is good, but like everyone else in the country, there’s a wide gap between what insurance pays and what the patient owes. I. Hear. That. She can’t lie there and watch TV. Figuring out their financial obligations will be good for her, even if it’s not good for their bank account. Like or not, they have to deal with reality, even if it means taking a second mortgage. He says, he can’t talk her out of it? and she says, no. He sits on the bed with her.
Willow takes the paper back from Michael, and says she’s going to hunt Shiloh down, and throw it in his face. Michael says she’ll be playing into his hands. He wants her to make a public scene. Then he’ll have proof she has something to hide. She says she does, and he says, all the more reason to keep cool. It’s like a game of chess; you have to take your time before you move. She says she has no time. She has to appear in court. Shiloh knows Wiley is his. Michael says if that was the case, he’d be on Brad and Lucas’s doorstep. He thinks she should call Diane. She knows the law, and how to bend it in her client’s favor. His parents are walking around free in large part because of Diane; she’s that good. Willow says he’s right. She’s the best, and will know what to do. She calls, but is told Diane isn’t there. Michael calls, and hands her the phone. She tells Diane that she’s just been subpoenaed.
At Kelly’s, Margaux thanks Lucy for putting her place on the market. Lucy is surprised she’s selling; she just got there. Margaux asks if it’s a problem, and Lucy says, no. She thinks she can get top dollar, and scheduled an open house this weekend. She asks if she can find something else for Margaux; maybe something smaller. Shiloh walks in, and Lucy asks if Margaux wants to take the conversation outside, but Margaux says she’s good. Lucy leaves, giving Shiloh a look as she passes him. Shiloh asks if Margaux is thinking of selling real estate now that she’s not on the public payroll anymore. She says she saw he found someone to take the fall for him. He says he doesn’t know what she means. She says Harmony didn’t drug those women. Didn’t his role model, P.T. Barnum, say there’s one born every minute? He says, every visionary has been called a huckster. There’s also a name for people like her, who turned him in for thirty pieces of silver. She tells him that he’s no Messiah, and she did it for free. He tells her he’s still there, and he’s just getting warmed up.
Brad tells Nelle that he knew she’d be working, but he didn’t want to sign in. Someone might be keeping tabs on him. He pops an antacid, and she asks why he’s so nervous. Why would someone be watching him? Has he been bad again? She realizes that’s not it, and asks if it’s her baby.
Jason tells Sam, as far as they know, Shiloh doesn’t know the baby survived, and he has no idea it’s Wiley. Sam says they eliminated the paper trail. Jason says one of his followers covered for him again. Sam says she knows. He’s leaning on DOD to back him up. That’s his pride and purpose, but also his Achille’s heel. He might have skated, but his reputation took a hit. People are calling it Dawn of Dead, and ex-followers are coming out about the Trust and the Pledges. His numbers are diminishing. Carly says he’s going under, and Sam says, not yet, but it’s starting to unravel. Jason says Shiloh is panicking. It might motivate him more to find the one thing he has claim to.
Lucy does business on the phone outside Kelly’s. Josslyn approaches, and Lucy hugs her. She asks how Josslyn is doing, and Josslyn says she’s okay. Lucy is glad see her. She says Josslyn has been on her mind a lot lately. Josslyn says she was speaking to Maxie, who said Lucy might be able to help her. Lucy says she’s a little young for her own apartment, but Josslyn says she needs a different kind of help. She needs to know how to contact someone who’s passed over.
Margaux tells Shiloh, his flock is deserting him in droves. He says the DOD numbers have never been higher, and she says either he’s more delusional than she thought, or he’s setting himself up for a colossal fall. He says one day, she’ll realize DOD is her salvation, and when that day comes, he’ll welcome her with open arms. He’s stronger now, and only growing more purposeful. She walks away, and he laughs like the nutcake he is.
Willow asks Diane if she’s sure there’s no choice. She says she understands. Michael says, not what she wanted to hear? and Willow says she has to appear, but Diane is prepared to fight and win. Michael says he can help. She says he’s done so much; now it’s her turn. No matter what happens, Shiloh is not getting his hands on Wiley.
Nelle asks if her baby is sick. Brad says his little boy is fine. He hopes that never changes, and it won’t, as long as Wiley remains with him and Lucas. He says the whole reason Nelle gave the baby to him was to keep him from growing up with Sonny and Carly. She asks if Carly is suspicious, and he says she’s clueless, but the birth mother has been poking around in their lives. Nelle asks if she still thinks Wiley is the baby she gave up. He nods, and she asks, what’s the problem? Brad says, the biological dad. Not Michael, but the real one, who thinks he’s Wiley’s biological father. Brad says he’s about to lose everything; Wiley, Lucas, his life, If Sonny realizes he took Michael’s son away. Nelle asks if he needs her now more than ever.
Curtis wonders how normal, everyday people can afford to be sick. That’s a good question, Curtis. He tells Jordan they’re not talking about this today. She says she needs to; it’s her fault. He says, it’s not. She says she’s the one taking thirty dollar aspirin. He says, because of an accident. He wouldn’t blame her any more than he’s blame Drew, who lost control of his car because a virus made him blind. She says, yes, it was an accident, but it’s still costing them everything they’d planned. Forget the honeymoon and vacations; what if she can’t go back to work? What if they sink into debt because of her? He says he’s got this. Luckily, he has an idea. He kisses her. While I applaud them addressing unaffordable affordable health care, didn’t Drew say he’d pay for all of this? Did I dream that scene up?
Brad tells Nelle if Wiley’s paternity becomes public, he needs to make sure she still wants Wiley to grow up with him and Lucas. He shows her a picture of Wiley on his phone. She says, he’s adorable. She sees a lot of Michael in him. She asks if he’s moved on, and Brad says, Wiley? She says, no; Michael. She saw the trash he was with on the red carpet at the Nurses Ball. Brad says they were talking about Wiley. She says, tell her the truth. Michael isn’t over her, is he?
Lucy texts Michael. Want to make an offer? Need to move quickly.
Willow visits Harmony in the pokey. She asks how Harmony’s arraignment was, and Harmony says, there’s not much to it. She pled guilty, and she’s being sent to Pentonville. Willow says she’s sending herself.
Carly tells Jason and Sam that she feels bad for Lucas. She says, there’s nothing worse for a parent than feeling powerless when your kid needs you. Margaux stops by the table, and asks to speak to Jason. They step away. Margaux says he probably knows she resigned. He says he heard her last act as DA was releasing Shiloh, and arresting Harmony, who lied to cover it up. She says she had no choice. Harmony confessed, and there was no evidence to disprove it. That’s not her problem. Actually, Shiloh is her problem. That’s why she came to see him.
Carly wonders what Margaux wants, and tells Sam, it’s great that Jax is back. Josslyn has been having a rough time. Sam is so sorry. She remembers what Carly said earlier, about being a mother, and feeling desperate for your child. The last thing she needs is more stress. Sam knows they’ve had their ups and downs, but if there’s anything she can do, or if Carly wants to talk, she’s there. Carly thanks her, and says, there’s nothing… She tells Sam that she’s afraid something is wrong with her baby.
She tells Sam the results of the CVS test were fine, and she thought she was free and clear, but her last screening indicated there could be a chromosomal problem. It can signal birth defects not detected in the CVS test. She’s spinning. Sam says she has to stop. Stay calm. She wants the baby to have the best life possible, and he will. There are plenty of reasons why her proteins could be elevated. Talk to Sonny, and they’ll work it out. She did tell Sonny, right?
Jason asks Margaux, why not stay and fight? She says her involvement with DOD would compromise the case. She did some digging though, and uncovered a file they haven’t seen before. A DOD member died of a drug overdose; Douglas Miller. Another follower took the blame, even though the death occurred after a dispute with Shiloh in Beecher’s Corners.
Josslyn says she heard Lucy had experienced contact with the other side. Lucy says she’s been known to dip her toe in, but Josslyn’s loss is too fresh. Why does she need help? Josslyn says she felt Oscar’s presence, and saw him at the Nurses Ball when she was singing. Lucy says, no doubt he was there and a comfort to her. Josslyn says, it was, but she never got the chance to say goodbye. She doesn’t even know what her last words were to him. Michael comes by, and asks if everything is okay. Lucy says, dandy. They were discussing how beautiful Josslyn’s performance at the Nurses Ball was. Josslyn says she had help. Lucy asks if Michael got the text. She tells him, if he’s looking for said person, they’re in there, and indicates Kelly’s. He asks if Josslyn is okay, and Josslyn say with the help of friends like Lucy, she will be.
Shiloh gets a text that he’ll need a $10K retainer for the custody lawyer, and pouts. Michael says he hears Shiloh has lost another follower. It’s starting to become a trend. Shiloh says, soon, he’ll be welcoming a new member. He’s sure Willow told Michael all about it. It’s not the first time he’s seen them together. What’s their connection?
Willow tells Harmony, it doesn’t have to be like this. Tell the truth. Shiloh isn’t the man Harmony thinks he is. Does she think he’ll be grateful, and suddenly put her first? Does she think he’ll adore her like she does him? In her heart of hearts, doesn’t she know better? Harmony says Willow never understood. Shiloh is the inspiration for DOD, and her love is unconditional. Willow tells her, wake up. The only person Shiloh loves is himself. Harmony says, Shiloh is a great man, and his work must continue. It’s an honor to help. Willow says they’re talking about prison. Harmony is going to be locked up with dangerous, violent women. How is she going to survive? Harmony says her faith will guide her through. It always has. Willow says Harmony has been a seeker; asking questions and looking for the larger truth. She’s throwing her life away on a lie. Does she really think Shiloh has the answer?
Brad tells Nelle that she should stop thinking about Michael. It would be best for everyone, especially Wiley, if she lets go of the past, and everything that binds her to Port Charles. Nelle says she’s doing laundry, not solving climate change. Seeing Wiley’s picture, she knows he’s loved. Brad says, so if someone tries to stake a claim on Wiley, she won’t interfere? She says cross her heart. He thanks her, and she says she doesn’t want someone else raising him, but she’s been on her best behavior, and could be up for early parole. He imagines she’d want a fresh start; somewhere new and exciting. She says, maybe, but maybe she’d want a part in her little boy’s life. He’d be open to that, wouldn’t he?
Curtis tells Jordan that he loves her. She says she loves him too, and he says, if just one kiss can change the conversation, then two or three… She tells him, stop. They have real issues that require real solutions. If they’re paying these bills, they need to prepare to sacrifice. Curtis tells her, stop thinking about what they’re giving up, and think about what they’re gaining. They can get creative in the kitchen. She wonders what he means by that, and he says they still to need eat, but instead of ordering out, they’ll make their own pizza. They might never see a Broadway play, but they can watch the Port Charles Players. Maybe he’ll sell his truck, and get a bike. They won’t have any gym fees. If they don’t opt for a second mortgage, they can sell the place, and buy a fixer-upper. They can flip it for a profit, and do it all over again. Before you know it, they’ll be out of debt, and closer than ever because they did it together. She says he’s crazy, and he asks if that’s a yes. She smiles.
Brad tells Nelle, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. She still has to do time, and he and Lucas need to do what’s best for their son. Nelle says, our son. It takes a village. Wiley will need a strong female role model. Brad asks if she means that she wants what’s best for Wiley. She tells him that she’s no threat. She’s his greatest ally. Her little angel’s happiness is all that matters. Making sure that bitch Carly doesn’t get her hands on him. The guard comes back, and asks if Brad is ready. Brad thanks Nelle. He says she may have contributed to saving a life. She says, anything for a good cause.
Willow says Harmony believes in Shiloh the myth. Let her tell Harmony about Shiloh the man. He’s willing to let Harmony rot while he takes her grandchild. It’s up to them to stop him. Harmony says she’s given Shiloh everything. Without him, she has nothing. Willow says, Harmony has her. Trust her. There is life after Shiloh. She’ll have the chance start over. Be a real family like they were before DOD. Not just a word or a slogan, but the real thing; mother and daughter. It all depends on her. She has to take the first step, and tell the truth. The guard comes in and says, the van is waiting. Willow says, it’s not too late. Do it for her grandchild and herself. Life has worth beyond Shiloh. As Harmony is led away, she says, goodbye. I bet she flips on Shiloh.
Jason asks why the police can’t revisit the case in Beecher’s Corners, but Margaux says they have no pull in that office. They consider the case closed. He says when he met Harmony there, Shiloh had the cops in his pocket. She says he clearly finds a way to get the law on his side. Maybe it works for them if he’s confident. If he thinks the authorities have accepted his version of the story, maybe he’s not being as careful. Maybe there’s evidence in Beecher’s Corners. She knows for sure, if anyone can crack the case, it won’t be a cop. Nail him for a crime he can’t pin on someone. He asks if she’s helping, and she says if anyone asks, she’ll deny it. He tells her, good luck, and she says, good hunting.
Carly admits she hasn’t told Sonny, and Sam asks, why? Carly says she just found out, and they’re both really busy. Sam thinks if Carly asks, Sonny will make room to talk about the baby. She knows Sonny would be worried. Carly says he has Kristina and Josslyn to worry about, not to mention Lulu and Dante. He doesn’t need one more thing. Sam says her worries are his. Carly says she keeps thinking if she doesn’t tell him, there will be nothing to worry about. Until she knows for sure.. Jason comes back to the table.
Lucy tells Josslyn that she’s deeply sympathetic. It’s great that Josslyn wants closure, but Lucy believes Oscar would want her to live life, not spend it trying to contact him. Josslyn says, if that’s true, why did he come to her at the Nurses Ball. Lucy says he did it at a time when she really, truly needed him. Maybe he’s choosing to not contact her again. Josslyn says she doesn’t know how it works, and needs someone who does. She doesn’t need a fraud who will prey on her grief; she can’t let it happen. Oscar wouldn’t want it either. He wants her to learn to live life without him. Josslyn says, in other words, Lucy won’t help her.
Michael tells Shiloh, Willow is a friend. She has a lot of friend in Port Charles; in the PD and the private sector. One of those friends knows a lot about him, David Henry Archer. He says his name is Shiloh. He needs to get back home. Michael says, about that. He’s renting the house on Brookhaven, right? Michael thinks it’s a nice place, so he bought it.
Willow looks in a mirror, and tells herself that she said she’d fight to protect Wiley with everything she’s got. Michael told her how many people were on her side, and she has every single legal means at her disposal. She says, it’s okay, Wiley. We got this.
Michael tells Shiloh that he bought the house. He’s a Quartermaine, and could buy the whole block, but that seemed excessive. Shiloh says he has a lease, but Michael says ELQ is partnering with domestic violence prevention, and it’s going to be turned into a center. Shiloh gets a notification that $50K has been wired to his account. He tells Michael, good luck breaking the lease. He says when Michael sees Willow, tell her that he’ll see her in court.
Lucy tells Josslyn that she has business to conclude with Michael. She knows if Josslyn is meant to contact the great beyond. She’ll do it. Oscar would want her to be strong. She’s Carly and Jax’s daughter, and Lucy has faith in her. Lucy says they’ll talk again soon, and goes into Kelly’s. Josslyn looks at the séance article on her phone. She reads, death is not the end. It’s only the beginning of a journey we all have to take. Death is the first step.
Carly tells Jason that she and Sam had a nice conversation. It’s great to see the two of them together in public. Carly jets, and Jason asks if something is going on. Sam suggests they let Carly and Sonny handle their own problems, and Jason sits. Sam asks what Margaux wanted, and Jason says he may have to return to Beecher’s Corners.
Jordan says Curtis is right. She’s been given a second chance, and should make the most of it. The bills can wait. He says, whatever it takes to turn their real life into the good life, they’ll do it together. They kiss.
Nelle is introduced to her new roommate. It’s Harmony, who looks pretty nervous.
On Monday, Curtis tells Jordan that they’ll figure out a way to pay the bills, Laura needs Mac’s help, and Valentin wants to buy Jax’s half of Aurora.

There was no Fear the Walking Dead tonight, and how will they ever top last week anyway? I was able to watch 90 Day Fiancé: Happily, Ever After? fresh (dissection of it coming soon), and Westworld on the first rerun encore performance. I also checked out The Real Housewives of Potomac, but I’m just not feeling these girls. I’m not sure I ever did. I think if you look up the definition of boushetto in the urban dictionary, their pictures are there. Although Karen did give up a good quote – You don’t know me to be a liar, but we do know you to be a fool.
And of course there’s the elephant in the room, Talking with Chris Hardwick, that was supposed to premiere tonight, but didn’t. That whole thing has bummed me out. I find it sad that, as beautiful a thing as the internet can be, it seems to create an easy judge and jury for just about everything. Maybe it’s just me, but I like getting all the facts first. The only fact I have so far is that he was possibly a d-bag and took advantage in a previous relationship. If people start losing their jobs over that, there will be precious few people working. Especially in the entertainment business where egos are humongous. In other words, I fail to see how this situation is anything close to that of a Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby, or even a Louis C.K. Yet this guy has already been hung out to dry. And the internet makes it way too easy. The Wicked Witch of the West said it best – what a world… what a world.

🚀 Recommendations from the Wayback Machine…
Last week, I stepped back to the 70s with The Warriors, a surprisingly well-crafted film for its time, 1979. The scene symmetry and use of place are sophisticated, and the costumes alone make it worth watching, although the dialogue is often unintentionally funny. While completely unbelievable, the plot is simple. All the gangs in NYC are called to a meeting. One of the leaders suggests all the gangs band together, making them a force to be reckoned with. He’s shot and killed at the big rally, and the wrong gang, the Warriors, are blamed. They have to make it from Coney Island to the Bronx, various gangs coming after them along the way. One of my favorites were the Furies, who wore baseball uniforms and Kiss/Rocky Horror-ish make-up. It was also fun seeing Deborah Van Valkanburgh (Too Close for Comfort) acting like she was in a high school production of Grease. I’m endlessly glad they did not remake this film.
Sadly, The Hills Have Eyes – the 1977 gem I followed The Warriors with – did get remade. It was horrifying all right, but not in a good way. And as far as I’m concerned, it’s just not the same without Michael Berryman. Forget Hills Have Eyes II, which is basically clips from the first film, strung together in a barely cohesive way. Stick with the original. Another straightforward plot. A family from Cleveland (which has never ceased to amuse me, since I’m originally from the area) get lost in the desert, and become the unfortunate victims of a feral family living in a cave. A true B-picture, a lot of it is over-the-top fake, but there are a few chills, a few laughs, and like I said, Michael Berryman.
A heartfelt, albeit late, Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. No matter who or what you are the father of, be it blood relation or a chosen role. Here are some quotes for you:

They knew that no matter who they were, if they were my friends, they’d be welcomed with open arms and an open heart. He passed away shortly before I got married, and I’ll miss him until we meet again.

General Hospital
Laura says she feels a little in the way. Lulu’s family is now four, and Charlotte needs her own room. Lulu says it’s fine. Spencer blows in, and says the living arrangements are unacceptable, and Charlotte is the problem.
Jake tells Elizabeth she looks scared, like at the Nurses Ball. He wonders if it’s him, but she says everything is fine. He says that she and his father make everything fine for him, and they hug. Hey, where is Franco these days?
Hayden runs to the examining room, unlocks it, and runs to the bathroom past Elizabeth and Jake.
Doc sees Sam at the MetroCourt. Jason is late and it’s bothering her. She has a weird feeling.
A cop comes to the examining room door, but Elizabeth tells him that it’s just her sister. He says to make sure she locks the door. Hayden comes back out and says hi.
Up On the rooftop reindeer’s paws. Costa tells Jason it’s not his job to ask questions, and it was never Jason’s either. They can kill each other or walk away. He jumps down to the balcony, and slams Jason up against the doors, but Jason quickly gets the better of him. Jason says Helena is dead, so who is Costa working for?
Amy says Nathan eavesdropped, and it’s none of his business. He wants to help, and says he didn’t know about Chet before; Dillon filled him in. She says her brother is a private guy, but Nathan says that’s not the whole story. He says she can talk to him, but she says Chet wouldn’t want her to.
Dante comes in with the kids, and Laura asks if something happened. Lulu asks what happened that Rocco is so dirty, and he says checking under rocks for worms. Laura asks Spencer what’s with the attitude, and he says he’s questioning the company they keep. Charlotte asks if he always talks like that. Spencer says that she and her father stole his life. Laura says that’s enough, and he says his father didn’t die that long ago. Has she forgotten?
Elizabeth gives Jake her phone to play a game, and asks Hayden if she’s okay. Hayden talks about how she’s been feeling sick, and Elizabeth tells her it must be the flu, jokingly adding, or she’s pregnant. Hayden says, surprise!
Sam feels like it’s something dire, which isn’t her M.O. Doc asks about the baby, and congratulates her. He asks if she thinks her anxiety has to do with Jake. She says it doesn’t help, but she’s thinking about that time in Jason’s life, two years unaccounted for.
Costa tells Jason that it was his job. Jason says he failed his job. He wants to know why Costa endangered his son. Costa grabs ahold of him, and holds him over the edge of the balcony.
Amy says that Chet is amazing, and was the envy of everyone in high school. She says he was nice, changing it to is nice, wondering why she keeps using past tense. She talks about how he championed losers. She was thrilled when he got a scholarship, but knew she’d miss him. Most big brothers would have teased or ignored her, but he gave her advice. He came up with the Man Landers name when he wrote to her from college; he always knew what to do. She says it’s different since he came home from Afghanistan. Nathan tells her that he read about Chet getting injured in combat. Amy says he’s in a group home, because their mother couldn’t take care of him anymore.
Laura sits Spencer down. She says his father was her son and she loved him. Charlotte isn’t to blame for what Valentin did, like he isn’t to blame for what Helena did. He tells her that’s a low blow. She says he’s upset and angry, but doesn’t have the right to take it out on Charlotte. She asks if they’re on the same page, and he says yes. She sends him to do a jigsaw puzzle with the other kids. When his piece doesn’t fit, he messes up the entire puzzle. I feel his pain. I often want to get a hammer and make the piece fit.
Hayden tells Elizabeth that she just found out. Elizabeth asks if it’s Finn’s, and Hayden says of course. Elizabeth asks how she’s feeling emotionally, and she says it’s been rocky, but she’s getting there. She asks why Elizabeth is hiding, and Elizabeth says Helena. Hayden tells her that answer is good enough. She asks how Elizabeth dealt with what happened to Jake. Elizabeth says you always want to protect your children. It’s not always possible, but if she didn’t keep going, she’d be missing out on the greatest experience of her life.
Sam tells Doc that in some ways Jason is the same, but in others, completely different. She wonders if he’s hiding from himself. Doc says he treated Jason way back when, after his accident, and he’s the single most resistant patient he ever had. Self-determination was the most important thing to him. Sam says Helena took that from him; he wasn’t in control. Doc says that went against everything he stands for. Needing to check his messages, Doc steps away from the table. There’s something from the hospital telling him that all non-emergency situations have been canceled for the rest of the afternoon. When he looks back at the table, Sam is gone.
Jason asks why Costa didn’t disappear. Costa says he had no choice, just like Jason didn’t when he was working for her. He and Jason struggle back and forth.
Nathan asks how Amy got material for the blog. She says she read an awful advice column, and looked at a comments section. She gave her own advice, or what she thought Chet’s two cents would be, and got a ton of responses. Nathan says she was channeling Chet, and she says she’s gotten good at giving advice too. It started off as fun, but then her mother died. There isn’t enough money for Chet to stay where he is. Nathan asks about her father, but Amy doesn’t quite reply to his question, saying that’s why she broke the sick-out; she needed to work to keep Chet afloat. She realized the blog could be her answer, but by then everyone wanted to know who Man Landers was and what he looked like. Nathan says, the rest is history.
Costa says it’s not over for him, like it’s not over for Jason. Cops storm through the doors, followed by Sam, and Jason releases Costa. One of the cops says they’re both going downtown. Sam tells them that the other guy threatened Jason, and asks if they don’t recognize Jason as the one who disarmed the bomb. Jason says Costa tried to kill his son and his baby mama. The cop tells him that he’ll have to make a statement, and Sam says she’ll make sure that happens. Jason tells her that Costa is still working for Helena. She says Helena is gone and still taking from people. She asks if he’s okay.
Hayden doesn’t know if she’ll be a good mother. Elizabeth says no one does, and nothing prepares you, but concerns are good sign. Hayden asks what about her day with the boys, and Elizabeth tells her that coffee and sugar are not a good idea. Hayden says she’s learned her lesson with that. Elizabeth asks if she wants the baby, and when Hayden says she does, Elizabeth says that’s all that matters. Jake comes back, and says he hopes Hayden is feeling better. There’s a knock at the door, and a cop tells then that the incident is over and it’s all clear. Jake asks what incident?
Dante tells Spencer that they have to treat each other with kindness and respect. If he can’t manage that, he needs to sit by himself until he can. Laura tells him don’t look at her; clean up the puzzle that he ruined. She apologizes to Lulu, but Lulu says they’ve all been there. Doc drops by, and asks Laura if she has the afternoon free. She says she does, and Spencer says he does too. Doc says it’s a plan. I like Doc and Laura together, and he’s probably one of the few who would have the patience for Spencer.
Jason sees Jake and Elizabeth, and asks if they’re okay. Elizabeth says what about him, and he says she can’t hurt them anymore. Oh yeah? How does he know? Costa just came out of nowhere. Maybe there are fifty other Costas. Not to mention that’s awfully optimistic for Jason.
Amy says with Nathan’s face on the blog, it exploded. She thought she could generate revenue, but he found out. She says it was wrong of her to steal his picture. She took it down, but that doesn’t help with the publishing deal. They wanted to meet him, but it’s her problem, not his. She asks him to keep everything in confidence. She drops her folders all over the place, and Nathan helps her pick them up. He sees the medical bills.
At the park, Spencer asks to get a hot pretzel. Laura says only if he promises to apologize to Charlotte. He does, and goes off, while Laura and Doc sit on a bench. Laura feels like she’s just run a marathon, and Doc says parenthood is a marathon that never ends. She tells him that Spencer was spoiled to begin with, then after the tragedy, he was indulged even more, but she has to reign him in. She says he’s angry about Valentin, and has the right to be, but it’s coming out now, and he’s focusing on Charlotte. Doc says he can see how that would be tense in tight quarters. Laura thinks she should leave now, so Lulu can settle in with her new family. Doc asks if Spencer isn’t going back to school, and she says that’s up for debate, but she should still find her own place. Doc tells her he knows just the place – his place.
Charlotte pouts, and Lulu suggests a snack break. Charlotte says she isn’t hungry. Lulu sends Rocco to the kitchen to find out what they have that might be tempting. She asks Charlotte if Spencer upset her. Lulu says he’s not really mad at her, and Charlotte says she knows that. She says she likes staying there, and she’s having fun, but she misses her papa and Nina. She asks if Lulu and Dante are mad.
Hayden takes Jake to the vending machine, and Elizabeth asks Jason how do they know Costa isn’t answering to someone else? Jason says he said he wasn’t. Well, I guess that settles it then. Sam moves away to sit on the steps, and Jason says he can’t be 100% certain, but he doesn’t think so. Costa was just carrying out orders. Jason thinks they can stop worrying. Sam starts getting buggy on the stairs.
Amy asks Nathan for her paperwork back. He says some of the bills are from years ago, and Amy says they keep piling up. He asks how she’s going to pay for all this, and she says she’ll figure it out. She begs him not to tell anyone, and he promises not to. She starts to jet, and he asks her to wait.
Laura tells Doc that he doesn’t have to, but he says he wants to. She doesn’t want him to feel like he needs to rescue her, and he tells her that he must be doing something wrong. He loves her. Waking up next to her and having her next to him at the end of the day, what could be better? She says it sounds wonderful, but she wants to be realistic. What if he hates something about her? He doesn’t think he’ll have any problems. She asks if he’s scared, and he says no. His feelings are real and aren’t going to change. And if that’s not enough, he can dig out the Santa suit. He says, let’s do this.
Dante tells Charlotte that they’re not mad. Lulu talks about all the people who love her, and says the more love you have to give, the more is given back. Charlotte says it’s like a star, even if you can’t see it in the daytime, it’s there. Dante says he knows that everything is strange, but they’re here for her. Lulu says they’re her family, and it’s forever. They hug, and Rocco comes back with snacks, joining in the hug.
At the vending machine, Hayden tells Jake to choose wisely, and explains buyer’s remorse. He picks something, and she says she likes a man who knows what he wants. The candy gets stuck, but Hayden bangs on the machine and it falls. Jake is impressed.
Sam worries on the stairwell. Elizabeth tells Jason that it will be new, not waiting for the other shoe to drop. She says that Jake is lucky to have so many people who love him, but Jason says they’re the lucky ones. When Sam looks at Jason, she sees blood running down his face.
Amy thanks Nathan for listening. He asks what Man Landers wears in public. He’ll need to know for meeting the publishers. Amy says she didn’t tells him for that reason, and he says that friends help each other. She hugs him.
The puzzle is done, and Rocco gives the last piece to Charlotte to put in. Lulu says their first family puzzle is complete. The kids go to pick out another one, and Dante and Lulu kiss.
Laura tells Doc that it won’t be just them; she has Spencer. She hopes that Doc knows she loves him. She says he’s been the most amazing gift, and she doesn’t want to mess it up. He says they’re a package deal, and he’s okay with that. As long as she’s with him, he’s happy. Laura agrees to move in, and they hug. Spencer comes back, and asks what about him?
Elizabeth decides to check on Jake. Jake tells Hayden that she’s pretty cool, and she says he is too. Elizabeth watches Jake hug Hayden.
Sam is crying, and staring at Jason, and he asks her what’s wrong? He asks if she’s okay, and still seeing bloody Jason, she says that she doesn’t think so. Thank goodness. I nearly went into diabetic shock with all the hugs and happiness today.
On Monday, Spencer asks what Doc’s intentions are, Nelle wonders who would be out to hurt her, and Griff asks Sonny if he’s planning on killing Ava.
🎭 I’m watching Bill Cosby: An American Scandal, and the whole thing is just depressing and sad. I grew up with Bill Cosby. He was extraordinarily funny. My sister taught me his stand-up routines when I was five or six years old, and I would repeat them to my fellow kindergartners. I guess you could say I was somewhat precocious. I also remember I Spy being a TV staple, although I was too young at the time to understand what a landmark show it was. Then there were his later TV efforts, and even though I’m not a sitcom person, I watched dutifully, and found it not painful, and often amusing. It’s almost like finding out an elderly family member committed heinous crimes. I realize he hasn’t technically been found guilty, but… Like I said, depressing and sad.

What I Watched Today (rambling, random thoughts & recaps from today’s real time TV watching)
General Hospital – Thursday
Andre apologizes to Jordan for how he handled things and tells her that he loves her. She doesn’t know what to say and wonders how he got to point B from their point A argument over Anna. Andre says he had to shrink himself and find out what was going on in his own head. He says it became clear that he cherishes her, even when she’s angry. He doesn’t expect saying I love you will fix things, but he wanted her to know how he really feels.
Monica asks Finn why the syringe and works were in his locker.
Curtis tells Valerie they should take the celebration elsewhere, but Hayden interrupts. She needs his help. Curtis says he’s not available for her right now, but she wants to know how to declare someone legally dead. He says she’ll have to wait until tomorrow or consult a lawyer. He tells her that friendship is a two-way street and he’s busy right now. Valerie says he’s all Hayden’s because she wants to celebrate with her fellow cadets.
Ava and Nicholas sit by the fire in the hotel lobby. Nicholas asks if she followed him and she says it’s the place she always stays while in London because it’s discreet. She says if she was going to turn him in, the police would be there by now, and the hotel is perfect for people with something to hide. He asks what she’s hiding.
Sam and Jason bask in the afterglow. Sam says life on the run is exciting and gives her a rush. She calls Spinelli who has gotten her the code for the alarm at the pawn shop. Jason asks if she’s sure she wants to do this herself. He says two heads are better than one, but she says she can be faster alone.
TJ gets a paid internship at GH. He and Molly celebrate.
Monica says she’ll have the syringe tested and has no choice but to suspend Finn’s duties in the meantime. He says he’s done nothing wrong. Tracy says Monica will suspend him over her dead body. Monica explains the situation and tells Tracy that a syringe was confiscated from his locker and she has no choice because he won’t tell her what it is. Tracy says if he’s a psychopath, why wouldn’t he have started with her. Finn says don’t worry, it’s all good. Tracy tells Monica she can kiss her job good-by.
Nicholas says he assumes the police would think he took a private plane and Ava says he should have taken it a step further and flown coach. He asks her what she wants. She says she wouldn’t mind a dinner companion. He asks again what she wants in exchange for her silence. She says the same thing she wanted on the plane, an explanation as to why he’s a dead man walking.
Hayden gives a glowing report to Valerie about Curtis.
Jordan says she once let her feelings trump her job and she doesn’t want it to happen again. Andre says he doesn’t expect her to say it back, he just wanted her to know. He says he’s not trying to manipulate her, just stating his position. He hopes she can get over the Anna thing, as his life would suck without her. They kiss. She says it feels amazing to know he loves her and as soon as she gets through the work piled on her desk, he’ll definitely see her again.
TJ introduces Molly to Curtis. Curtis says maybe they can spend some time together, but he’s on a date right now. Valerie asks to steal him away. She asks Curtis if it’s okay that she spend more time celebrating with her peeps, and he says he totally understands. He says she’s also given him the best idea he’s had in a long time.
The bartender tells Finn to get “that thing,” meaning Roxie, out of here. He says she’s a service animal and Hayden threatens to record the conversation. The bartender shrugs and asks what they’re having. They order and Hayden pets Roxie.
Ava says she was accused of murder, but what possessed Nicholas to ditch his wonderful life and deprive himself of his son and his son of him? She wonders if it’s Hayden. Nicholas says he’s not going to tell her what she wants to hear. Ava says that the only thing that could keep her away from her daughter is prison. Huck shows up saying what a coincidence.
Sam puts the code in the alarm and goes into the pawn shop. She gets the info she wants pretty quickly, but the owner comes out with a gun.
Jordan is startled when she walks in the office and Curtis is sitting there. He asks if Valerie kicked him to the curb, and he says she’s still celebrating. She says Valerie deserves the celebration. He goes down Memory Lane about being a cop and says he’d like to go back to it. Jordan thinks he’s just being nostalgic and says as good as he was at his job, he still blew his career. Curtis says not if you believe in second chances and asks her to help him become a cop again.
Molly says she’s left the house and she’s not coming back until Alexis gets a clue about Julian. TJ suggests they live together next semester. Molly says her dad should be okay with it, but what about Jordan? TJ says she should be fine with it too, and Molly suggests they talk to Sonny.
Monica tells Tracy to go ahead and try, but she has good reason for suspending Finn, and that all of the evidence points to him. She explains that one of his deceased patients had the same drug in them that Lucas did. Tracy says his syringe might contain something harmless, but Monica asks why he didn’t tell her then.
Hayden tells Finn that she had a bearded dragon as a kid because her father was allergic to furry pets. She says she named him Mr. Darcy. Finn asks if Nicholas was her Mr. Darcy. She says he came close, but like her pet, he disappeared one night.
Huck sits with Nicholas and Ava and starts babbling. Nicholas says they’re having a private conversation and would like to be alone. Huck invites them to dinner at his private manor and won’t take no for an answer.
Sam tells the shop owner that she didn’t take anything; she was just in a rush for her documents. He says whether he lets her go or not depends on how nice she can be. She pretends to go along with it and kicks him in the cajones. He reaches for the gun, but Jason pops out of nowhere and gets it first.
Curtis says he’s not just being sentimental. He’s investigated things and since he quit and wasn’t fired, and he’s still in good standing. He asks what he needs to do to convince her that he’s not using anymore. Jordan asks if he’s even talked to his sponsor. She asks what if he gets tempted. He says one thing about recovery is discovering the why, and his using drugs was a mistake. He also made it his job to tell Tommy that Jordan was creeping with Shawn and it affected a lot of people. He says if she doesn’t want to support him because of what he did, at least believe he’s punished himself more than anyone else ever could.
The shop owner says he’s going to call the cops and Jason says he doesn’t want to get on the bad side of Sonny. Jason tells him after this, he’s to take a month long vacation. Sam gets what she needs and Jason tells him to lie face down, turns out the lights, and they leave.
Ava thanks Huck for the invite and says “Niles” has been dodging fans. Huck says there will be none of that at his place. Nicholas says Ava can go, but no thanks for him. Ava says she’s not going without him and he has scripts to read before a meeting tomorrow. Huck leaves and Ava says she doesn’t think running into him was a coincidence.
Finn says he could use another drink and Hayden says he doesn’t look too good and asks if he has his insulin. He says he’ll be fine and she asks him to tell her the truth and asks if he’s really a diabetic.
Curtis says he pours out his heart and that’s all he gets? Jordan says he never expressed regret before. She says she had to give Tommy a reason to come home safe after he was deployed. Curtis says he’d give anything to relive the day and he would have made different choices. He says he loves TJ and he would never tell him that Shawn is his real father. Mic drop.
Tracy and Monica bicker. Tracy says Monica let a good man go while there’s still a murderer wandering around GH.
Finn asks Hayden to help him and Roxie get back to the hotel.
Back at the hideout, Jason asks if Sam’s okay that he came to check on her. She says yes, but she had it under control. She gives him the passports and says they’re headed to London.
Ava says she can give Nicholas a ride since she has a car coming in the morning for a meeting .He asks what that will cost and she says she’s on his side. He says he’ll take the ride then. She says to be ready at 6 am.
Huck hears them and says he’ll be waiting
Tomorrow, Maxie asks Nathan if he still wants to marry her, Sonny says Julian is finally getting what he deserves, and Curtis talks finances.
General Hospital – Friday
Jason says all they have to do is find Nicholas, bring him back and clear Jason’s name. There you go. It’s all very simple.
Nicholas (who is being played by someone else today) and Ava are at Huck’s place. Nicholas says they have to catch a flight, but Huck says that Heathrow is four hours away and they’re not going to make it to the airport on time. Did I miss something? What are they doing there in the first place and wouldn’t they already know how far away the airport is?
Laura takes Spencer to visit Doc. Spencer says he has to run his life with the course that’s been set for it, without his father, cracking me up. Doc says he understands why Spencer might not want to talk to him since they don’t know one another well, and Spencer asks if anyone ever really knows anyone.
The pictures are being taken for the Crimson real man issue and Curtis is doing some boxing moves. He looks all serious about it, and I’m thinking this actor must feel stupid right now. Maxie asks Nathan to talk in the other room. She says she loves him and she’s sorry she judged him. She says he shouldn’t be defined by one mistake. She forgives him and wants him to forgive himself. She asks if he still wants to get married and he says yes. She says good, because she wants to marry him too.
Paul and Anna are talking and Sonny interrupts, saying if it wasn’t for Anna they wouldn’t have anything on Julian and she should be there when he goes down. Paul says everyone is entitled to their opinions, but Sonny’s doesn’t count at the PCPD. He says he’s actually is on Anna’s side, but it was Jordan’s call. He tells them that evidence was recovered at Julian’s place.
Julian calls Alexis, saying he misses her and expects a warm welcome when he gets home. Oh man, he’s getting creepier by the second. This is way past not getting the hint. Kristina asks Alexis what’s wrong and Alexis makes something up. Since it’s obvious Julian wasn’t home the night before, Kristina asks how much trouble her mom is in.
Nina says she thinks she’s found the Crimson cover guy. Curtis says the more he shows, the more money she has to show. Julian walks in. Nina asks if he shouldn’t be in jail by now.
Laura tells Spencer if they could talk about his dad, they might both feel better. Spencer asks if Doc is trying to shrink him.
I did miss something. I guess Huck pretended he was going to take them to the airport. They fell asleep in the car and he took them to his house.
Sam and Jason get to the hotel where Ava and Nicholas were staying. Sam asks the desk clerk to have “Niles’s” room called, but the clerk says he checked out this morning.
Huck says the weather has taken a turn for the worse and they’ll never get through the fog. He tells them he’ll get some refreshments while they make other arrangements. He says there’s no choice since there’s nothing and no one for miles around.
Sonny asks what the evidence is and Paul says he can’t talk about pending cases. Sonny says he’ll find out anyway, so Paul might as well tell him now. Anna agrees they should tell him. Paul takes them into the interrogation room and Anna tells Sonny about the dagger. Sonny says Julian claims he has an alibi, but Paul says it’s not as iron-clad as Julian thinks. Anna tells Sonny not to do anything to screw things up.
Alexis tells Kristina the less she knows the better. She says the police think Julian is involved in a crime and they searched the house. Kristina asks if it’s Carrrlos’s murder. Alexis says she thinks nothing will come of it and Kristina says legally or personally? She tells Alexis she deserves better and Alexis tells her it’s going to be okay, because that’s the kind of lie moms tell.
Julian asks to talk to Nina. She asks why he put her on the spot with the police in telling them he was with her all night long. She says they both know that’s a lie.
Spencer says it’s best to move on now that Nicholas is lost to them. Doc says he understands and Spencer doesn’t have to talk to him. He gives Spencer money for the vending machine. Doc asks Laura if he can see Spencer on a formal basis, because he’s clearly holding something in. While at the vending machine, Spencer calls Nicholas, leaving a message that he has his father’s back and he should win an Oscar.
Nicholas and Ava can’t get any bars on their phone. Um…doesn’t Huck have a normal phone out in the country? Huck leaves to get them snacks and Ava tells Nicholas she’s calling the police the second she gets a chance. Nicholas tells her don’t you dare. I’m not liking this Nicholas. Where’s the real one?
The clerk won’t say where Nicholas went, but Sam makes up a story about Spencer needing him. The clerk won’t give up too much so she pushes some money his way and he goes on break. Sam looks at the paperwork and sees what flight Nicholas is supposed to return on.
Anna tells Paul that it’s better to keep Sonny in the loop so he won’t take matters into his own hands. Paul says he might anyway, but she says that if he’d wanted to kill Julian, Julian would be dead already. She says if Julian tries to leave town, Sonny will be there to stop him.
There’s a knock at Alexis’s door. It’s Sonny. She tells him Kristina is upstairs, but he says he’s there for Julian. She says he’s not there and Sonny tells her to call him and have him get home now.
Nina tells Julian she told the police he was there for a while, but the time was hazy. He says that’s good enough for him. She says she does remember seeing the stain on his shirt and believed it was red wine at the time. He asks if she told the cops about the shirt and she says they didn’t ask. She asks if it isn’t her civic duty to come forward. He asks what it will take for her to stay out of it and she says him naked on all fours. What?
Nathan says he has to leave, but tells Maxie to call him if Julian gives her any trouble. Nina tells Julian she doesn’t want to jump his bones, but she wants to put them in the real man issue. She says women are usually used as objects, so she’s literally making the men pose as such. She sees him as a coffee table she’s resting her feet on. Ha-ha! I like it.
Sonny tells Alexis he’d never take advantage of Carly’s love to save his own ass. Alexis tells him to get out. He says he will as soon as Julian gets back. She says she’ll call the police, but he says they’re already on their way and he’s going to watch Julian get arrested. Kristina comes downstairs and asks what’s up. Sonny says they’re just having a talk about nothing that concerns her. She leaves for wherever she goes now.
Alexis says Sonny is mistaken. She says the police took evidence, but she doesn’t think it will amount to anything. He says really, a murder weapon? She says there are lots of knives out there, but Sonny says not with Carrrlos’s blood on them
Paul tells Anna that he wants her there when Julian is questioned.
Doc tells Laura that if she needs to talk, he’s there. They discuss being friends. Laura says it’s funny how it took one of Helena’s sick games to bring them together. Doc says he did a little digging and hit pay dirt.
Sam calls somewhere, pretending to be Anna and asks to speak to the special agent for Heathrow. She says they have a wanted man on board a flight.
Nicolas and Ava argue about who’s in the wrong. They realize the door to the room is locked.
Laura asks what Doc found out. He says Lloyd and Lucy Johnson are real people and they’re behind the holding company that owns the disco. They also live in Port Charles. Laura says she can’t concentrate on this right now, and Doc says when she’s ready, they’ll pick up the trail.
Sam tells Jason the flight took off before she made the call, but Nicholas wasn’t on it. She wonders if he booked another flight to cover his tracks, but Jason wonders if he made it at all. She tells the desk clerk, who tells her that Nicholas had a companion.
Nicholas says there must be a mistake and Ava says yeah, theirs for coming there in the first place. Ava wants to try a window, but Nicholas says it’s 50 feet straight down.
Julian doesn’t see the need for him to participate and suggests Nina find real men on the street. She says none of them is her publisher who needs an alibi.
Anna asks Paul what the angle is. He says there isn’t one. He says she’s the one who holds sway over him. Anna says she’s just trying to find out if he has something else in mind. Nathan interrupts saying there’s a DNA match on the dagger.
Alexis tells Sonny Julian is in his office and if he wants to see an arrest, it’s probably going to be there. Sonny asks if she even cares.
Laura makes an appointment for Spencer with Doc. Spencer says he doesn’t need to talk. He says he hasn’t lost his father, but catches his own mistake and makes up something about Nicholas being in a better place. Yeah, London.
Ava suggests they jump Huck. Huck comes back and says he forgot to pay the bill and the phone has been shut off. He lives in a freakin’ manor and he doesn’t have someone who takes care of that? Nicholas says they’ll take their chances with the weather. Huck says he can’t allow them to leave and they haven’t yet begun.
The clerk describes Ava to Sam and Jason, and tells them good luck. When the clerk walks away, Sam checks the roster and tells Jason that Ava had checked in.
Nicholas tells Huck that Ava had a business meeting and will be missed. Huck says he doesn’t care about Nicholas; it’s Ava he wants.
Nina asks Maxie if Nathan is still around. Julian tells her he’ll pose for the magazine.
Sonny tells Alexis she’s getting out just in time before Julian dragged her down with him. There’s a knock at the door. Apparently, no one has a doorbell in Port Charles. It’s Nathan. He arrests Alexis for Carrrlos’s murder. This is a little odd to me, but I guess her prints are the only ones on it.
On Monday, Olivia asks Julian what’s going on, Sonny tells Nathan that Julian is the one he wants, and Nina asks Franco if he wants to get nakey.
