What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the penthouse, Sonny thanks Lois for the ziti. It was just like her mom’s. Lois says, he liked it? and he says he loved it. She says she couldn’t tell; he barely had three bites. He says he wasn’t hungry, and she says, too worried to eat? He says, all the food tastes like cardboard. He doesn’t want to offend her mom’s recipe… She says she didn’t bring the ziti over so he could praise her cooking. She brought it over to keep his strength up. He says, is that all? and she says she wanted to check in on him too. He says he went to the hospital and sat by Dante’s bed and checked on Olivia. He’s terrified his son’s not going to make it.

Kristina taps on Dante’s window to get Sam’s attention, and Sam meets her in the hallway. Kristina wonders how it’s going, and Sam asks if she wants the cheerful and optimistic answer. Kristina says, if Sam’s feeling cheerful and optimistic, and Sam says she’s scared… and confused. Kristina says she doesn’t blame Sam. She would be too. Especially now. Mom said Jason is the prime suspect in Dante’s shooting?

Anna listens to Jason’s 911 call in the interrogation room when Molly asks if she has a minute. Anna tells her, come in, and Molly says, her office wants an update on the Dante Falconari shooting and how it relates to the shot that was taken at Sonny Corinthos earlier that evening. Should the individual face separate charges or do they make the warehouse and conspiracy charges lesser offenses included in the charge of first-degree murder? Anna says, the individual in question is Jason Morgan, but she’s not convinced he tried to murder anyone. Molly says she hopes Anna is right.

Drew goes to the gatehouse and Willow invites him in. He says he saw the light was still on and he was hoping to catch Michael. She says, he had to run an errand. She’s not sure how long he’s going to be. Drew might want to text him. Drew says, it’s not really something he wants to say in a text. He and Carly broke up.

There’s a knock at Sonny’s old kitchen door, startling the moss bowl 🎍and Carly. Carly sees it’s John, who asks if he can come in. She opens the door and asks if he has a warrant, but he says, no. He just wants to speak to her. She tells him, come in, and asks what he wants to say to her. He says he needs her help.

Jason sits up, hears something, and puts his hand on his gun. Michael says, it’s him, and tells Jason not to stand. He needs rest. Jason says, he’s okay, but Michael says he’s not. He will be. Let them take care of him.

Kristina tells Sam that she has to hand it to mom. She gave her and Molly a heads up before The Invader ran the story on Dante’s shooting. Sam asks what she said, and Kristina tells her, everything the article said, just more personalized. That Jason is still alive and he’s the prime suspect in Dante’s shooting. It was confusing to her then and it’s still confusing. She doesn’t know how Sam is holding up. This must be hitting her pretty hard. Sam says she’s still trying to process it all, and Kristina says, okay. Sam says, okay what? and Kristina says she expected Sam to say this was all a big mistake and there’s no way Jason could do this. Sam says, if that’s what she wants to hear, go talk to Carly.

Anna says she was just listening to the 911 call which ID’s Jason’s voice, and Molly says she’s heard it. Even without the tech, she knew it was Jason. Anna says, coupled with that, they have the DNA evidence on the sweatshirt that was used to bandage Dante, and Molly says, Jason’s blood. It appears he was shot while wearing the sweatshirt, then took it off and tied it around Dante’s wound. Anna says, they know he tried to save Dante, but did he also try to shoot him? and Molly says, their preliminary theory is, Dante was pursuing Jason and a second individual. Jason shot his pursuer, and then upon realizing it was Dante, tried to save him. Anna says, that certainly fits the evidence they have so far, and Molly says, but she doesn’t believe it. Anna says she doesn’t want to believe it. That is something else entirely.

Lois tells Sonny that Olivia said he’s been a rock, and he says he’s glad she thinks that. Lois says, he’s doing something wonderful for Olivia. He’s allowing her to pour all her love and hope into his son. But he has a right to his feelings too. Olivia might not be in a place to hear them and share them, but she can. He says, it’s just not fair. Does she know what he means? She says she does, but what’s fair? She loves him. He knows that. God forbid the situations were reversed and it was her child in a hospital bed fighting for her life, he’d be the first person she’d call. So she wants him to lean on her. He can tell her anything. He knows she’s not going to judge him. He says, if Jason was the one who shot Dante, he’ll never forgive him and never forgive himself.

Carly asks why she’d help John, and he says, she seems convinced Jason Morgan is innocent. She says, he is, and John says, help him prove it. The last thing he wants to do is waste Bureau resources by charging the wrong suspects. So help him out. Tell him why she’s so sure Jason didn’t shoot Dante Falconari. She says, because Jason isn’t reckless or stupid. He wouldn’t shoot at someone without knowing who they are, he wouldn’t shoot a cop, and he would never shoot Dante. John asks, why never Dante? Because he’s Sonny’s son? Carly says, that’s part of it, but the other part is, Dante lives with Jason’s ex-wife and they’re raising Jason’s son. He says, for some men, that would be a motive for murder.

Willow asks if she can make Drew some tea. Forget that. Can she pour him some wine? He says, if she joins him, and she says, absolutely. It has been quite a day. He asks how Michael reacted to the news about Jason, and as she pours the wine, she says, he’s thrilled that Jason’s alive. Of course (🍷). Drew says, and convinced he didn’t shoot Dante? and she says, yes. He says, so is Carly. All evidence to the contrary, she believes Jason is innocent and nobody and nothing can shake her faith in him. That’s why they broke up.

Michael tells Jason that Willow said he had to change into some clean clothes, and Jason asks when she got so bossy. Michael says, she’s always been bossy. She used to be a teacher, remember? Now she’s a nurse. The secret is, she’s very subtle about it. She’s so sweet and reasonable, you don’t even realize she’s ordering you around. Jason says, she’s a good nurse, like Michael’s grandmother. Michael’s mom told him about Bobbie. He’s sorry. Michael says, it happened on New Year’s. She was in Amsterdam sorting through Luke’s affairs, and she passed away in her sleep. They were all devastated, especially his mom. Jason says, you know what’s crazy? The first time he held Michael, Bobbie put Michael in his arms. He was a little premature and he had to be in an incubator. Bobbie brought him to the nursery and sat him in this rocking chair and put Michael in his arms. She told him how to hold Michael, how to support his head, and then she let go. That was the scariest moment in his life. Michael says he doesn’t blame Jason. He felt the exact same way the first time he held Amelia. He can’t wait for Jason to meet her. She’s so beautiful. She looks like Willow. Speaking of Willow, she wants Jason to get into some clean clothes, so let’s get on it. He brings out a duffel bag and asks if Jason needs help, but Jason says he’s good. Jason takes off his shirt, and Michael sees the sleeve tattoo. He asks, what happened to him? (Thank God. I thought maybe I was losing my memory or something.)

Drew says he didn’t stop loving Carly, he just realized that there’s no future there, and Willow says she’s so sorry. He says, so is he. She’s an incredible woman. She made him very happy, and he hopes he made her happy too. She says, obviously, he did. He’s been incredible. Generous, supportive, beyond forgiving. He says, not always. Not today. He came down her pretty hard for something he honestly doesn’t think she can help, not that she would want to. Carly’s first loyalty is always to Jason. He means more to her than anybody else, other than her kids. When they all thought he was dead, she was free to pursue other relationships, but now that he’s back, she’s not.

As Jason changes, Michael says he’ll burn the old clothes, but Jason says he needs them. Michael says, there’s a bullet hole in his shirt, but Jason says, when he leaves here, he needs to be wearing those clothes. There can’t be any evidence that somebody helped him. Definitely nothing that tracks back to Michael, Willow, or Danny. Michael says, okay. So when he leaves, where is he going? Jason says he hasn’t figured that out yet, and Michael asks if Jason can at least tell him where he’s been.

Carly says, clearly, that line about her helping John help Jason was just a line to get in the door, right? but John says he’s just pointing out that some men might have a problem when their ex-wife moves on and their kid is being raised by somebody else. She says, okay. So now instead of Jason shooting Dante to avoid arrest, he now lured Dante to the pier and shot him out of jealousy. John says, it’s just a theory, and she says, it’s a ridiculous theory. He says, it’s his job to entertain every possible scenario in the course of an investigation, and she says, really? Because she thought his job was to keep an open mind, to go where the evidence leads him. Is there any proof at all that Jason’s guilty? Because she’s pretty sure there’s evidence that Jason tried to help Dante. He asks how she’d know that.

Sonny says, when Ava showed him the freeze frame of Jason’s face from the drone, he couldn’t believe it, and Lois says, Ava? He says, she went with him to the warehouse. He knew something was going to happen, so he had Spinelli put cameras all over the warehouse. So he went to Dante’s, Ava went to Spinelli’s, she came back, and there was the picture of Jason on the roof with another shooter. She says she’s so sorry. That must have been surreal. He says, when he first saw it, he thought it was fake, but it was legit, and he just couldn’t believe it. She says, it seems impossible, and he says, for her, because they have history, but Ava is more objective. She asks where Ava is right now, and he says, she’s dropping off Avery at school. She says, so let her get this straight. Ava shows him the picture and he sees it’s Jason. He appears to be working with the sniper… Sonny says, no, he is working with the sniper, and she says, okay. He realizes Sonny is the target. Why is Jason trying to kill him? He says he doesn’t know, but maybe it’s been so long since they’ve seen each other, maybe Jason’s just forgotten what it’s like to be loyal to him. (Geez, it’s not like it’s been 20 years.)

Anna tells Molly that she has multiple conflicts when it comes to Jason. A few years back, Jason saved her life. That’s when she got to know him a little better than she had previously. He is… was… is remarkable. He’s cool under fire and a clear thinker, and someone she instinctively trusted. And of course (🍷) her daughter loves him. He made a crucial difference in Robin’s life. All of which makes her want to believe he did not shoot Dante. But of course (🍷) she cannot be in this job wanting to think the things she wants to think. She has to remain impartial, assemble the evidence, and trust the system. Molly says she thinks that’s why she’s really here, to see how Anna does it, stays impartial, because she doesn’t know that she can. Which would mean she’s in the wrong job.

Kristina says, it’s hardly a shock that Carly thinks Jason is innocent, and Sam says, don’t tell Molly that she’s telling her this, but Carly said Jason showed up at her place the night Dante was shot. Kristina says, again, that’s not a surprise that Jason would go to Carly, but why doesn’t Sam want her to tell Molly? (Duh…) Sam just looks at her, and Kristina says, because Molly is an ADA, and she would have to notify the cops, and the cops could get a search warrant for Carly’s house, and if they found any proof Jason was there, Carly could get charged with something like aiding and abetting. Sam says, yeah. Mom would be proud. Kristina says, the daughter of a lawyer, and Sam says she’s got to be honest with Kristina. She really can’t stand the sight of Carly right now. She doesn’t want Carly to go to prison or anything like that; she just wants Carly to leave her alone. Kristina asks if Carly said Jason told her that he didn’t shoot Dante, and Sam says, Carly told her that Jason showed up in her living room. They had a big reunion, the cops showed up, and no word was mentioned about Dante. Kristina says, he’d come from the pier, so even if he didn’t shoot Dante, maybe he was just there, saw it, and called 911. You’d think that would be top of mind and he’d mention it to Carly. (I’m all kinds of frustrated with these two. Jason is the father of Sam’s son, for cryin’ out loud.) Sam says, you’d think. Classic Jason. Never says anything. Kristina asks if Sam really thinks he did it, and Sam says, every minute that goes by, she’s afraid that he did it. Kristina says she’s so sorry. She can’t believe Jason would do that, especially since he’s wanted in connection to the rifle shooting at the warehouse. Her dad has a rip in his coat that… Hey. Danny is headed toward them, but turns around, and Sam says, Danny Morgan, what are you doing here again?

Jason says he didn’t get killed in the tunnel collapse on Cassadine Island, and Michael says, that much is obvious. (Thank you.) Jason says, the tunnel was blocked. He couldn’t get to Britt and the others. So he followed the tunnel out. It led him to the beach, and he was heading to the main house, but there were two guys there waiting with guns. Michael asks, who were they? but Jason says, that part he can’t tell Michael, but they took him prisoner. They flew him out of Greece and eventually, he ended up in a room with no windows, talking to a man who wanted him to do a job, and he had the leverage to force him to agree. Michael says, and Jason can’t tell him what that leverage was? and Jason says, no. Michael asks, what was the job? and Jason says he’d been working as a private military contractor, a mercenary.

Carly says she’s sorry to disappoint John. She hasn’t seen Jason. He didn’t fill her in on his version of events. If he checks his records, he’ll see that one of the people who found Dante at the pier was her daughter, Josslyn Jax. John says he remembers her name from the report, and Carly says, when she and her friend Dex showed up at the pier, they found Dante bandaged with a sweatshirt and a cellphone lying next to him, open to call with 911. That was Jason. Not because he told her, but because she knows Jason. And why the hell isn’t he going with the theory that this other, unidentified suspect was the one who shot Dante, and Jason was the one who saved him? John says, if she knows Jason so well, maybe she can tell him why Jason ran away instead of waiting for the first responders.

Lois says, remember when Jason first started working for Sonny? The Quartermaines were so upset, especially Alan and Monica, but Jason wouldn’t listen to anyone. As far as he was concerned, he liked and respected Sonny, and no one was going to stop him from being Sonny’s friend. Sonny says, there was a point where he didn’t trust anybody more than Jason. Maybe he trusted Jason too much. She asks what that means, and he says, when he was in Nixon Falls, Jason and Carly got together. She says she heard they got married, but Olivia told her that Sonny showed up on the same day and then they got it annulled. She thought that it was like a friendship thing; they were helping each other out. Sonny says, that’s what he thought. Maybe he thought wrong. She asks if he’s saying they were cheating on him behind his back, but he says, no. He’s not saying they slept together, but they were in love. He was the last one to know and he just felt like it broke some trust. She asks if that’s why he divorced Carly the last time. She thought it was because of Nina. He says he’s not denying his feelings for Nina, but he really wanted to make his marriage work. He tried, but Carly made it impossible. She says she’s so sorry, but he says, it really doesn’t matter right now. His son could be dying, and the cops think Jason is the one who shot him.

Carly tells John that she doesn’t know why Jason ran. Maybe because he didn’t want to be arrested for something he didn’t do, or get locked up by the FBI, who already presume he’s guilty. John says he thinks it’s because Jason wanted to remain undetected. Carly says, he’s going to have to explain that to her, and he says he wants to be clear that Jason and the other suspect didn’t know there were surveillance cameras at the warehouse or a drone hovering over the roof. They made no attempt to hide their faces. Which means, at the time Dante was shot, Jason was under the belief that his presence in Port Charles was undetected. He had no idea there was footage of his activities on the roof or that his picture was already in the hands of the authorities. Maybe she should be grateful to whoever shot him. If they hadn’t, he’d already be long gone.

Willow says, Carly and Drew have been through so much together. He went to prison for her. Drew says, taking the plea deal to protect Carly was the right thing to do. He’d do that again in a heartbeat. He doesn’t regret that. It’s just that he’d never want her to stay with him out of obligation and at this point, that’s kind of all it would be. She says she thinks he’s really underestimating himself and Carly’s feelings for him, and he says he knows Carly loves him, but not the way that she loves Jason. He didn’t want to drag it out and didn’t want to turn it into a test where Carly has to prove she’s choosing him over Jason, because they both know, the second there’s a crisis, she’s going to run straight to him. Willow says she’s sorry and takes Drew’s hand. She says, he deserves so much better, and he says he agrees with her there and intends to find it.

Michael asks how long Jason has been back in Port Charles, and Jason says, since yesterday. He was working with a sniper, Hamish. He already told Michael about him. But when he found out the target was Sonny, he made sure Hamish missed. He and Hamish were headed for the waterfront to get out by boat, and that’s when Dante caught up with them, and Michael knows the rest. Michael says, if he hadn’t been sent to shoot Sonny, would he have come back at all? and Jason says he doesn’t know. He’s thought about it every single day, but the job the man gave him in the room with no windows isn’t done. Michael asks what happens if Jason doesn’t finish, and Jason says, something he can’t live with. He has to finish it.

Sam says she can’t believe Danny snuck out for a second time, but Danny says he didn’t sneak out. Yuri drove him. Sam asks, what’s wrong with him? Doesn’t he realize Danny is too young to be ordering him around? Danny says he lied and said Sam wanted to see him, and she says she does want to see him. She loves seeing him, but he has to realize she’s going out of her mind with worry right now, and the only thing that’s keeping her calm is knowing Danny, Scout, and Rocco are safe at the Quartermaines. Kristina says, it’s just a thought, but maybe he’s here because his father Jason is alive and is a suspect in Dante’s shooting.

Molly tells Anna that she’s got her own conflicts of interest with Jason. Sam was married to him. They have a son together. Although she thinks it’s ironic that Sam has more doubts about Jason’s innocence than she does. Anna asks if Molly believes he’s innocent, and Molly says, three years ago, if Anna had asked her, she would have known he was. And no amount of evidence could have convinced her otherwise. She worshiped Jason. She thought he and Sam had to most romantic love story ever. And even after they broke up, Jason was someone that Sam, their whole family, could count on. Jason was an unconventional father, but he loved Danny. He was willing to do anything Sam thought was best for their child. Plus, he literally saved Kristina from a cult, so that’s another thing in the bonus column. Why wouldn’t she give Jason every benefit of the doubt? Anna says, they don’t know where Jason’s been or what he’s been through. What they do know is there’s footage of him acting like a spotter for a sniper taking aim at Sonny. Molly says, hence the conspiracy charges. You don’t just accidentally wind up on a rooftop next to a man with a high-powered rifle, helping him set up a shot. Anna says, if he was willing to participate in Sonny’s murder, why wouldn’t he shoot Dante? But the anomaly is the 911 call. Molly says she keeps thinking Dante was shot by the other individual and Jason tried to help him, and Anna asks, so why wouldn’t he stick around for first responders? All this could be a moot point because there’s been no sign of Jason since he jumped from the bridge. (Has anyone even bothered looking for Hamish???)

Sam tells Danny that she’s so sorry. She should have sat down and talked to him. Danny says, it’s okay, but she says, it’s not okay. She’s been so focused on Dante, she didn’t stop for a second to think he might have some questions himself. He says he’s not a little kid anymore. Dante’s been shot, so of course (🍷) she needs to be with him. Besides, it’s not like she can tell him anything about his father. Can she? Sam says, all she knows is what she saw in The Invader, that Jason is back and he’s a suspect in Dante’s shooting. He’s right. He’s not a little kid anymore, and to be completely honest with him, she has no idea where his father’s been or why he thought it was okay to let them think he had died. But Jason doesn’t think like other people. His father is drawn to danger. He chases it actually. Anyone else would have been trying to get home, but not Jason. Danny says, maybe he has a reason, and she says she’s sure he does, but Jason’s reasons aren’t like anyone else’s either. Kristina comes over and says she’s been quoting Danny’s grandmother a lot today. She’s taught Kristina a lot about law over the years – both of them – and one of the most important things she taught Kristina is that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty. So at the moment, it seems like all the evidence is pointing at Jason being the one who shot Dante, but he’s not guilty unless and until he’s charged and tried and a jury says so. She knows Danny has a lot of questions about why Jason stayed away, but his dad is really the only one who can give him those answers.

Michael comes into the gatehouse and sees Drew, who tells him that Willow said he was out running an errand. Michael says, yeah, like ten of them actually. What can he do for Drew? Drew says he’ll let Willow fill Michael in. He’s suddenly feeling kind of exhausted. He’s going to go back and check on Scout and probably go back to bed. He thanks Willow for the wine and for the sympathetic ear. She says, anytime, and just to be clear, no one will ever be better to Carly or better for her than he was. He says, that means a lot, and thanks her. He hugs Willow, tells Michael goodnight, and leaves. Michael asks, what was that about? and she says, his mom and Drew broke up. He says, that’s too bad, and she agrees. She asks if those are Jason’s, pointing to the duffel bag he’s carrying, and he says, yeah. She says she’ll wash them, and he asks if she’s sure she’s okay with this. She says, it’s nothing she would have chosen, but it’s where they are. All they can do is see it through, right?

Sonny says, the thing he feels really bad about is the regret he has because of the distance between them, and Lois says, the distance between him and Dante? Come on. They have a beautiful relationship. She saw it the second she got back to Port Charles, which is a little surprising, seeing Dante’s a cop and Sonny… does what he does. Obviously, they’ve been able to surmount those obstacles. The bond he has with Dante is full of love and mutual respect. Sonny asks if he can tell her something, and she nods. He says, for the last two years, Dante was the only one he could go to. Dante is the only one he can talk to who doesn’t judge him. Dante believes in him. That helps him. It does everything for him. Does she want to know what the last thing he said to Dante was? She says, what? and he says, stop being in my way.

Sam says, right. Danny’s father is innocent until proven guilty. They’re just going to have to hope there’s some explanation for all this. And when Dante wakes up, he can tell them what happened. Danny asks if the doctors know when he’s going to wake up, but Sam says, there’s no way to predict that. It could be today, or it could be another Lulu a while from now. He says he’s sorry he came and worried her, but she says, don’t be sorry. She’s sorry she snapped at him. She loves him. She needs his help. She needs him to promise her that he’s going to go to the Quartermaines, and please, please stay out of trouble. He says he’ll stay out of trouble. He guesses she won’t have to worry about the other two. She asks what he’s talking about. She worries about all of them. She loves all of them. She hugs him and asks him to give Scout a big hug and kiss from her. He says he will, and she asks fi Kristina can take him where he needs to be. Kristina says, of course (🍷), and Sam goes back into Dante’s room. Kristina asks if Yuri is downstairs waiting for Danny, but Danny says, Yuri dropped him off. She says she guesses he’s looking at his ride. Funny. She just got a sudden craving for a maple old fashioned. Does he want to stop by Eckerd’s all-night donut window on the way home? (Thank God we don’t have one of those here.) He says he could go for a chocolate with sprinkles, and she says, oh, he’s a chocolate with sprinkles kind of guy? Sounds pretty good. She thinks she’s changed her mind. She leaves, and he looks in the window at Sam sitting with Dante.

Anna tells Molly that Agent Cates was at one end of the bridge, and she was at the other. Cates told him to keep his hands where he could see them, which he didn’t really comply, but he didn’t pull a weapon. She told him to turn himself in so they could sort it all out and that’s when he jumped. But he did not look desperate. He looked determined, like he knew he could survive the drop in the river… and she thinks he did. Molly asks if the search parties turned anything up, and Anna says, no, but according to CSI, it has something to do with the currents in the river, that if Jason were dead, he’d have washed ashore by now, but he hasn’t. Ergo, he’s almost certainly alive. Molly says, so where is he now? but Anna says she doesn’t know. They’re continuing the search and proceeding with the theory that Jason’s injured and holed up somewhere in the area. Or that he was injured just slightly and got out of Port Charles. He could be out of the country by now, for that matter. He could be anywhere. Molly asks if she really thinks that could be just as likely, and Anna says, yeah. She worked for the WSB for years and she used to see these sniper teams operate and they were professional. They get in, they set up, they make the kill, and get out. And it does appear to be what was happening on the warehouse roof. In which case, Jason is long gone. He could be almost impossible to trace. Molly says, then she guesses she should be relieved. She won’t have to prosecute Jason, but disappearing is basically an admission of guilt, no? Anna says she’s not so sure. The more she looks at the evidence, the less sense it makes to her. Something else is going on here. Something that she’s not seeing… yet.

Lois asks if Sonny doesn’t think Dante’s said things about him in the last few years that he wishes he could take back. But Sonny still loves him, right? Sonny says, always, and she says, so why doesn’t he cut himself some slack? He says, it’s just difficult. Dante only went to the warehouse because of him. Dante tried to tell him about the cops. If he’d listened, Dante would still be home. She says, okay. She’s about to rock his world. He’s not God. He’s not responsible for Dante’s choices or Jason’s for that matter. He can’t control the outcome of events. But it doesn’t mean he’s powerless. He’s a parent and there’s nothing stronger than a parent’s love. That is what Dante needs right now and she knows he can feel it. She knows it like she knows her own name. He says he’s known her long enough that he’s not going to argue with her, she says, that’s good, and they laugh.

Carly says, this conversation’s over. She wants John to leave. He says he didn’t mean to offend her, but she says, yes, he did, and he succeeded. He says, for what it’s worth (🍷), she offended him too. The FBI doesn’t presume anyone’s guilty. They follow the evidence where it leads. His only goal here is to find the truth. She says, great. She can’t wait for him to find the truth and clear Jason’s name, but until then, she wants him to get out of her house and don’t come back unless he has a warrant. He starts walking to the door and stops. He says, it’s funny. Whenever he mentions Jason’s name, boy, does it get under her skin. He leaves, and now the moss bowl🎍is offended.

Jason remembers being cuffed to a table, and John walking in. He says, Mr. Morgan. Special Agent John Cates. Welcome to Quantico. He hopes Jason’s flight was enjoyable. Jason tells him that he has nothing to say without his attorney, but John says, Jason doesn’t have to tell him anything at this point. Just listen. John opens a tablet and says, he’s about to hear incontrovertible proof of RICO violations. Those are federal crimes. They carry a 20-year sentence. In the present, Jason stares at the ceiling in the boathouse.

Tomorrow, Curtis asks if Marshall was able to locate Dr. Braddock; Diane says, a lawyer can dream, can’t she; Heather says, no doctor has ever told her anything; and Dex tells Josslyn, what if it’s too late?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

As Gladys, Maxie, and Sasha got to a table in the pool area, Maxie says she spoke to the Crimson journalist who’s going to be interviewing Sasha about the tone of the piece. She happens to be a good friend of Maxie’s, and is very sympathetic to Sasha’s situation. Not to mention, she loves a sob story about someone coming back after being down and out. Not that Sasha is a sob story. Sasha says, nope, she’s just a thief, but Maxie says, she’s not that either. She’s just had a rough couple of years. And in the interest of transparency, she wants to tell her side of the story about what happened at Logan’s. Sasha says, right. She’s coming forward of her own volition to take responsibility for her actions and speak about her recent mental health issues. Maxie says, maybe say journey… Unless she thinks it’s too woo-woo. Gladys says she likes it, and Maxie says, then maybe not. She’s going to say this one last time; Sasha does not have to do the interview. The story that broke was a blind piece about a model shoplifting. Nobody knows it was her. Gladys says, not yet anyway, and tells Sasha that she trusts her impulse to get ahead of the story. Sasha thanks Gladys for faith in her, and she just prays everything goes smoothly. Maxie says she’ll be right by Sasha’s side to make sure it does, and Gladys says, oh great, as Cody walks in. She says, Cody Bell is the last thing they need right now, and he lies down on a chaise lounge.

In Alexis’s office, Esme looks through some boxes of papers on the floor. She hears something, and quickly puts everything back in the boxes, but Alexis walks in before she’s done and asks, what is she doing?

Sonny lets Kristina into the penthouse, and she says she’s glad he texted. She was already gearing up for the rest of the day. Sonny says, she knows he’s always here for her. What’s going on? She says she applied for the wrong building permit. She thought she filed it correctly, but it turns out, she didn’t. No one bothered to let her know, so now she’s in violation of Title VII.III of some thousand-page indecipherable law. He says, she has to take a breath, and she says she’s trying, but just like everything else in her life, it feels like her foundation is just being ripped out from under her.

There’s a knock at the door, and we hear, the role of Molly is being played by Brook Ann Smith (see below). Great. It was hard enough keeping nuMolly and nuKristina straight, but at least the old nuMolly was a head taller than everyone else. Not so this one. Molly thanks Sam for letting her stop by, and Sam says, she’s always welcome here. Molly says she’s been spending so much time at GH waiting for updates on Curtis, and on top of that, Kristina just had to make everything so much harder than it has to be. But really, does that surprise anyone? Sam asks, what happened? and Molly says, mom didn’t clue Sam in? Sam says, mom stopped by last night, but she doesn’t know if what Alexis told her is what Molly is talking about. Molly says, Kristina has decided she’s going to be the surrogate for her and TJ’s baby. Then she discusses it with Sam and Alexis without even bothering to tell her and TJ. So now, as usual, she and TJ were the last to know.

Taggert looks at a photo of him and Trina on his phone, when Trina comes in. They hug, and Trina thanks him for asking her to meet him for breakfast, but she can’t stay long. She has to go back to the hospital. He says he understands she has to be there, but she has to eat, and she says, she knows. But she feels guilty when she’s away from the hospital. She feels like she should support mom and d… Curtis, because it feels like he may never wake up.

Portia says, come on, Curtis. It’s time to wake up. They’ve all been here waiting for him. Trina’s here, his dad, his Aunt Stella. Even his girl Nina was here. They all love and miss him so much. Spencer walks in, and Portia turns to see him. He says he didn’t mean to intrude, and she says, Trina’s not here. She went to have breakfast with her dad. If it’s important, Spencer can give her a call. Spencer thanks her and says he’ll get out of her hair (another phrase they say a lot that no one else does). He leaves, and Marshall comes in. He asks if there’s any change, but Portia says, nothing. All they can do is wait. Meanwhile, Spencer, of all people, decides to stop by. Marshall says he’s sure Spencer was just looking for Trina, and she says, he was, but she told him that Trina was having breakfast with her dad, so thankfully, he left. Marshall says, not exactly. He’s sitting right out there in the waiting area, and doesn’t look like he’s leaving any time soon. She glances out the window and sees Spencer.

Taggert says he promises Trina is going to get through this crisis. It’s a hard lesson learned, and he hates that she’s learning it at such a young age, but she needs to understand she has a whole family that loves and supports her. He takes her hand and says, she doesn’t have to go through this on her own. She says, but she can’t help but feel like being here with him, she’s giving up on Curtis.

Portia comes out, and Spencer says he hopes Trina is enjoying breakfast with her… dad. He was just going to wait for her here, unless Portia would rather he leave, because he can. She says, no. She wants him to stay because there’s something she needs to say, and she needs him to hear what she has to say.

Molly wonders when Alexis came by Sam’s last night. Was it before or after Molly saw her at GH? Sam says, after, but she promises mom wasn’t trying to keep anything from Molly. They didn’t know Molly overheard Kristina saying she wanted to be a surrogate for her and TJ. They were trying to stop her from saying anything insensitive or hurtful. Molly says she just wishes that idea had worked, because TJ was furious, and Sam says, Kristina was really just trying to help them out. Molly says, by swooping in with this great plan? Would Sam ever have done that? Sam says, no, and Molly says, of course (🍷) she wouldn’t. Because she understands their fertility issue is a private topic. It’s their problem to figure out, not Kristina’s. Sam says, Molly has every right to be angry… and Molly says, angry hardly describes it. She doesn’t know if their relationship as sisters will ever be the same.

Sonny says, in his experience, dealing with these big shot types, you’ve got to be patient. It’s not easy. You got to have everything exact. She says she’s so mad at herself for making such a stupid mistake, and he asks if she’s done this before. She says, no, and he asks why she thinks she has to be perfect right out of the gate. She’s learning on the job. She asks if he has any bright ideas on how she can fix it, and he says he’ll make a few calls and take care of this, but she says, no. It’s her mess and she’s going to fix it herself. He says, then she has to own her mistake and make it clear what it is she needs to fix it. Then do it in person. She says, of course (🍷), and thanks him, and he says, anytime. Her mom mentioned she might need some support. She says, so mom’s been talking to him about her behind her back.

Esme says, she had them put some boxes in Alexis’s office, and when she picked up one of them, the lid fell off… Alexis says she wasn’t asking Esme for an excuse. She was asking for an explanation. Esme says, it wasn’t an excuse. She was just trying to be more proactive like Alexis asked. Alexis says, and by proactive, Esme interpreted that to mean she could comb through Alexis’s documents? Esme says she never would have done it, but they’re all about her. Is Alexis researching her? Is that why Alexis hired her in the first place, so she could do some story?

Gladys says she’s going to talk to Cody, but Sasha says, he has every right to be here. Gladys says, he does, but he’s clearly a distraction. Does Sasha really need that right now? This interview has to go perfectly. Maxie says, smoothly. Stay here. She’ll talk to Cody. Sasha thanks her, and Maxie leaves. Gladys says, Sasha is going to do great, but is she keeping up with her meds? Sasha takes a pill out of her purse and swallows it. No water because she’s a pro at this.

Maxie taps Cody on the head, startling him, and he says he swears he didn’t know they were here. It’s his day off. She asks if he can at least do them a favor and stay away from Sasha. She needs some space. He promises he won’t bust into their brunch by the pool, but Maxie says, it’s a little more than a brunch. Sasha’s telling her side of the story about what happened at Logan’s. He says he didn’t know the story came out, and she says, there was a blind piece in The Sun. He says, if it didn’t mention Sasha by name, why is she coming forward? Won’t that just make things worse?

Gladys tells Sasha, maybe Maxie was right. Maybe this is a bad idea. Sasha says, Gladys told her that she should do it, and Gladys says, what does she know about publicity? Sasha says, maybe there’s still time to cancel, and takes out her phone, when a woman calls her name. She holds out her hand and says, Alyse Taylor. Ready to tell her side of the story? Sasha asks if she isn’t a bit early. Maxie is supposed to be here for this. Gladys says, don’t mind Sasha; she’s a little out of practice. Alyse says, they can push back the interview if she needs more time to prepare, but Sasha says, let’s do it. Besides, she’s an open book. No need to prepare if you’ve got nothing to hide.

Maxie tells Cody, look. Sasha felt she owed the public an explanation, and she respects that. He asks, who’s that with Sasha now? and Maxie says, dammit. She wanted to do the introductions. Whatever he does, do not come over to their table. And would it kill him to put a shirt on or something? He says, at the pool? and she says, whatever. Just don’t come over to their table. He says he’s not going to. Just take care of Sasha.

Molly tells Sam, time after time, she’s made allowances for Kristina’s feelings, thinking somehow, she overshadowed Kristina. All of her achievements made Kristina feel less than. So what did she do? She apologized for not being sensitive enough or that she was too uptight and stood in Kristina’s path. But now she’s wrestling with something difficult and painful, and maybe even life changing. Except what is their family doing again? They’re all tiptoeing around Kristina’s feelings. Sam says, she and mom never thought of it that way, and Molly says, none of them do because Kristina has to make everything about her. Except this time, she’s the one with the health condition, not Kristina. Yet what are they all talking about? They’re all talking about Kristina wanting to be the surrogate for her and TJ. Sam says she knows Molly is upset and she really wants to be there for her, but maybe it’s not Kristina who Molly has the probably with. Molly says, in what world is Kristina not her problem? and Sam says, she’s talking about a family dynamic that’s obviously been bothering her for a really long time. So maybe her issue isn’t with Kristina. Maybe it’s more with her and mom, because they take Molly for granted, and spend more time focused on Kristina. Any chance that’s what’s making her so upset?

Sonny tells Kristina that Alexis hinted there was something wrong, but it was Kristina’s story to tell, and she doesn’t want to betray Kristina’s confidence. Kristina says, did she or did she not ask Sonny to come and talk to her? and he says, Alexis suggested that they have a conversation. There’s no harm in that. She says, of course (🍷). It’s just so obvious that no one trusts her to make decisions about her own life.

Trina says, it’s been so crazy, and she just doesn’t think she’s been making enough time for Taggert, but he says, it’s a little hard to make time for her dad when she’s being held hostage in Greenland by some maniac. She says, but ever since she got home, she feels like all her energy has been focused on figuring out her relationship with Curtis. She just feels like they haven’t been connecting the same way… not since they got those DNA results back. He says, it’s a fair statement, and she says, but they promised each other before they got those results, nothing was going to change between them. She thinks they just need to be honest. They’re struggling with this, aren’t they?

Spencer tells Portia that he knows Trina’s been here since Curtis was shot, and he knows he should have been here to support her. He really does wish he could have visited more. Portia says she hasn’t seen much of him, and he says he wanted to respect Trina’s boundaries. She says, not to mention his extremely complicated home life. It was one thing for him to be living with Esme while Laura and Doc were supervising, but now that they’re gone looking for Nikolas… He says, it’s not just him and Esme. And the only reason he’s living there is so he can help take care of his little brother Ace. She says, it’s got to be a lot of responsibility, and he says, more than he could have imagined. But he’s very lucky, because Trina has been incredibly patient and supportive of him. She says, that sounds like her daughter. She’s always been one to see the best in anyone. He says, even people who don’t deserve it, like him. But he can promise Portia that whatever happens with his little brother, he could never hurt Trina, because she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him. She says, really? and he says, without a doubt. She says, then can he answer her this? Is he the best thing that’s happened to Trina?

Sonny says he hopes Kristina knows he’s supportive of her, and she says, he might be the only one. He says, she has to help him out, because if this isn’t about the foundation, and it’s some personal issue, he’s flying blind here. She has to give him some details and tell him what’s going on. She tells him, let’s just say she had an idea to make an offer to help Molly, and he asks what she means. She says she can’t say exactly, but it would have been a really big deal for both of them. She told mom and Sam about it the other night, but they completely shot her down. They said, Molly wouldn’t want her to interfere, and she didn’t think this through, and she had no idea what she was getting herself into. He asks if she did know what she was getting herself into, and she says, no, but she would have figured it out. But that’s not even the problem. The problem is, Molly figured out what she wanted to do, and it turns out mom and Sam were right. For whatever reason, her offering to help Molly was the worst thing she’s ever done in her entire life.

Molly says, this isn’t about Sam and mom. It’s about Kristina. From Kristina’s perspective, all she has to do is offer to be her surrogate, and all Molly’s problems are solved. It’s like she’s saying, let her have a baby for them, and everyone will congratulate her for being the savior for this poor barren couple. Then once again, Kristina is the center of attention. Sam says, Molly needs to take a step back, because that is not at all how Kristina presented being a surrogate for her and TJ. She was just really focused on wanting the two of them to be parents. Was it an impulsive idea? 100% yeah. But Sam doesn’t doubt for a second that she had good intentions. Molly says, Sam’s taking her side? but Sam says she isn’t. They’re her sisters, and she’s just trying to understand. No way would Kristina ever want to hurt Molly. Molly says, Kristina may not have wanted to hurt her, but she really did, and Sam says, Molly wasn’t there for the entire conversation. At the end of that conversation, Kristina agreed to wait until she and TJ decided for surrogacy or not. If they didn’t want to do that, Kristina would have been totally fine with that. Molly asks if Sam doesn’t think it would have become something about her rejecting Kristina or not trusting her, and Sam says she can’t predict the future, but she’s really surprised by Molly’s attitude right now. Molly says, Sam is surprised that she’s angry, but Sam says, she’s not surprised Molly’s angry, but it doesn’t make sense that she’s directing all her anger at Kristina. Molly says, because having a kid isn’t a big deal to her. She doesn’t want a kid, but Molly does. And she can’t have one, but Kristina can. In what world is that fair? Sam hugs Molly.

Alexis says she doesn’t have to explain anything to Esme, let alone why she chooses to choose any document from the archives. And as much as Esme’s curiosity is piqued, that doesn’t give Esme the right to rummage through her office. Move. Esme steps out of the way, and Alexis moves the boxes. She says she can’t believe she’s having this conversation, and Esme says she’s sorry. She hasn’t exactly had a job before. Alexis says she wouldn’t have guessed, and Esme asks, what happens now? Is Alexis going to fire her? Alexis says, not that Esme deserves an explanation, but these documents aren’t about her. She has a reporter who wants to do a retrospective on Heather Webber and Ryan Chamberlain’s reign of terror in Port Charles. Esme says, her biological mother and father, and Alexis says she requested the material as a matter of due diligence. She hasn’t decided yet whether she’s going to approve the retrospective or not. Esme says she’s begging Alexis, do not publish that story, but Alexis says, that’s not how she runs a newspaper. Esme says she thought Alexis, of all people, would understand how she feels.

Maxie greets Alyse, and says, as she’s sure Sasha was just explaining, there were a few misunderstandings that happened at Logan’s that they all want to clear up. They recently adjusted the deals in the loaning contract between Logan’s and Deception, and Sasha’s been out for a while, so she’s not quite caught up. So actually this whole thing is just some big non-story. Gladys says, Sasha’s just a little confused, that’s all, and Maxie says, Sasha just wasn’t clear on the terms of the agreement. Alyse says, makes sense to her, but she was really hoping Sasha would speak for herself. Not just about what happened at Logan’s, but how she’s coping with her return to the spotlight. She’s been through so much – the loss of her husband, the loss of her child – and she had a very public breakdown on the Home & Heart shopping channel. All that pain… Their readers really want to know, how does she keep going?

Taggert tells Trina that he wouldn’t say they were struggling… Okay. He’s been holding back a bit. He doesn’t want to be a burden. She says, but he’s not a burden. When she was angry at mom for lying to her, and trying to sort out her feelings for Curtis, she assumed he’d always be there for her. He says, because it’s true. There’s nothing she could say or do that would change how he feels about her. Besides, she’s going through that time in her life where spending less time with her parents is natural. She’s growing up. She’s finding her way in the world. She has no time for a parent, even though they know it will happen eventually. She says she thought it was different with them. She’s trying to understand where she came from and who she is. He says, the person to help her do that is Curtis.

Spencer tells Portia, honestly, he doesn’t know if he’s the best thing that’s happened to Trina. She’d have to ask Trina, but he certainly knows he’s not the worst thing. Portia says, really? Because from what she recalls, some of the worst moments that were in her daughter’s life all have one common denominator. They all happened because of him. Her daughter was arrested for creating revenge porn of her best friends Josslyn and Cam. And who’s the real guilty party? It was Esme. Who brought Esme to Port Charles? It was him. Trina was almost kicked out of PCU; she was put on trial. And if she was convicted, that would have haunted her for the rest of her life. He says he’s not disagreeing with anything she’s saying, but he and Trina have made a real effort to work past those things. Portia asks if they’ve worked past those things, or has Trina simply overlooked them? What about the fact of Trina following him on that boat and being trapped with his insane great uncle. The only reason Trina is alive is because Curtis saved her, not Spencer. He says, Trina should probably run as far away from him as she possibly can, but what is so amazing is that she hasn’t. She’s chosen not to. Despite everything that’s happened, Portia’s daughter has chosen to stand beside him, and he thinks they’re good for each other. And he thinks he makes her happy. Portia asks how he can say that with a straight face. After everything he’s put her daughter through, he still chose to move in with Esme, the person who caused her daughter all that pain. So no. Absolutely not. She doesn’t think he makes Trina happy at all.

Taggert tells Trina, Curtis is tough. He’s going to pull through. She says she hopes he’s right. She doesn’t know what she’d do if she lost the chance to get to know him. She looks at her phone and says she has to get back to the hospital. She hugs Taggert, and tells him that she loves him. He says, him too, and she says, it’s nice to know she can count on him. He says, always, and she leaves.

Sam says, Molly not being able to carry a child isn’t fair at all, and Molly says, Kristina just throwing it out there like that, that she could carry a child for Molly. She’s clueless about how sad Molly is. TJ’s equally as sad. They both thought she’d be pregnant one day, and that there would be sonograms, getting tiny clothes, and TJ would put his hand on her belly and feel it kick. None of that’s going to happen now. Sam wipes a tear from Molly’s cheek, and says, Kristina knows Molly is having a hard time, but maybe she doesn’t understand all the reasons why. Has she talked to Kristina about it? Molly says, before they blew up, hardly. Kristina makes her uncomfortable; she goes on and on about her foundation. Sam says, Molly has to talk to her and be direct, but Molly says, no. She’s not doing that. She’s so tired of always being the bigger person. Kristina needs to figure this one out on her own.

Sonny says, Kristina knows he loves her, right? and she says, of course (🍷) she does. That’s not the issue. He says he doesn’t seem to know what the issue is exactly, but she needs to have a conversation with Molly. She says she wishes she could. She wishes it were that simple. They could just say, weapons down, and have a sister heart-to-heart, but that’s not going to happen. She knows the way they see her. To Molly and TJ, it’s like, doctor and lawyer versus the college dropout. That’s just the way it is. They think she’s irresponsible and that she’s self-serving, and that she just fundamentally can’t be trusted. Maybe they’re right. He says, she’s beating herself up, and he doesn’t want to pile on… She says, he’s not piling it on. She just doesn’t know what to do. He says, she told him it was an impulsive decision to help Molly. Kristina needs to figure out why she’s so willing to help her. Kristina says, because she wanted to help, and he says, there’s no other reason? What about the foundation? She said she wanted to make a difference in Port Charles, but then she wanted to be in charge of something. She said she wanted some flexibility, and then she wanted something creative. Does she see what he’s saying? It wasn’t totally self-sacrificing. She needs to figure out why it was so important to do that and have a conversation. He doesn’t want anything to come between the two of them.

Sasha tells Alyse that her family is supportive, and gives her the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Gladys and Maxie move to the side, and Gladys wonders what Cody is still doing here. She thought Maxie was going to get rid of him. Maxie says, it’s a public place; he’s fine. We see Cody looking through a magazine, with his shirt on, and Gladys tells Maxie, says you. She’s going to go talk to him. Maxie says, whatever, and Gladys goes over to Cody.

Alyse says, poor thing, and wasn’t Sasha involved with Cyrus Renault for a time? Maxie jets over to the table, and says, that was the past. They’re focusing on the present. Alyse says she thought Maxie told her, no holds barred, and Maxie says, within reason.

Gladys kicks Cody’s chaise, and says, beat it. He sits up and says, excuse me? and she says, Sasha doesn’t need him distracting her. Not when she’s trying to concentrate on an important interview.

Sasha says, that was a long time ago, and Maxie says, she doesn’t have to talk about Cyrus. No one wants to talk about him. She says she thought she and Alyse had an understanding. Sasha watches as Gladys argues with Cody, and he turns into Cyrus.

Spencer tells Portia that Esme is his brother’s mom. He doesn’t like living with her either, but he’s kind of stuck with her right now. She says, he is, but does Trina need to be? That girl tormented her daughter and he’s living with her. Spencer says, she’s right. It’s a complicated situation. She says, maybe it is, and maybe it isn’t, and he says he’s not going to turn his back on his little brother. She says she gets that, but if he really cares for Trina the way he says he does, and he’s stuck with Esme, wouldn’t he want to spare Trina from continually having to see her? Wouldn’t the selfless, mature thing to do be to let Trina go? Trina shows up, and says, he’s here, hugging Spencer.

Curtis moves his hand, and Marshall asks if Curtis can hear him. He calls Curtis’s name.

Trina says she just had breakfast with her dad at Kelly’s. She didn’t know Spencer was coming by. Portia says, it gave them a chance to chat, when Marshall comes out and tells Portia, come quick. He thinks Curtis is waking up. Portia and Trina run into Curtis’s room.

Esme says, all she’s asking is for Alexis to have a little heart. She’s a Cassadine, right? So she knows what it’s like to be judged by her relatives even though she’s done nothing wrong. She’s just trying to explain… Alexis says she’s going to stop Esme right there. That comparison is not only inappropriate and false, it’s really irritating. She is a Cassadine, and her family is very complicated, which is why she did the work to confront her past. She worked really hard to establish herself as her own person apart from her family. So a Cassadine doesn’t define her, nor she them, but Esme on the other hand, claims she doesn’t remember her past – Esme says she doesn’t – which doesn’t mean she doesn’t have one. She does, and she’s done nothing to earn that clean slate. Which is why she’s sure the stories about Esme’s biological mother and father frighten her. She’s worked really hard to try to be civil to Esme, but she doesn’t trust Esme, nor does anyone else. Now if she wants to change that, Alexis suggests she take a really good, long, hard look at herself and her past, and face what she did. Because other than that, these boxes are the least of her problems.

Sasha sees Cyrus arguing with Gladys instead of Cody, blinks, then sees Cody. Maxie asks if she’s okay, and Sasha says she just thought she saw someone she knows. Maxie tells Alyse that they’re going to reschedule the interview. She thinks Sasha’s had a little too much sun. Sasha says, no. She wants to tell her story.

Gladys says she wants to know why Cody wants to bother a troubled young woman, and he asks, what happened? Sasha was doing great as far as he could tell. She says, far being the operative word. He wasn’t there, so how would he know?

Sasha says, yes, she’s been through a lot… like many people. Probably like a lot of Alyse’s readers. Mental illness isn’t uncommon, and the stigma of mental health issues is still… She sees Cyrus with Gladys again, and he looks at her.

Sonny says, Kristina knows he’s always here for her, right? and she says he does, and thanks him. Sometimes she feels so alone in this family, it’s nice to know someone has her back. He says, she’s not alone, and she says, we’ll see. He tells her to think about what he said, and she promises she will. They exchange I love yous, and she leaves.

Alexis says, Esme may not remember her past, but she can’t pretend it didn’t happen because it will find her. Alexis’s phone rings, and she says she needs to take this. She says hello to Sonny, and Esme quickly takes a paper from one of the boxes. Alexis says, she came to his house? Good. Esme slips the paper into her blouse, and Alexis tells Sonny, hold on for a second. She asks why Esme is still here, and Esme bolts to the door. She walks out, and Alexis says, shut the door, so she does. In the hallway, she takes the paper out, and looks at it. It’s a copy of an Invader article with the headline: Heather Webber, Hook Killer, Moved To Pentenville.

Sam says, if Kristina doesn’t say the right thing to Molly, what does that mean for the two of them? but Molly doesn’t know. She says, maybe they need some time apart. There’s a knock at the door, and Sam opens it. Kristina says, thank God she’s home. She’s not going to believe… Molly.

Taggert looks at the photo of him and Trina again, and takes a flask out of his pocket. He pours something into his coffee. I’m guessing whiskey.

Portia asks if Curtis can hear her, and Marshall says he swears he saw Curtis’s fingers move. Portia says, it could have just been a muscle twitch. It doesn’t mean he’s waking up. But wait. It does. Curtis opens his eyes, and Portia says, welcome back. Spencer looks in from the hallway.

Sasha sees Cyrus laughing at her, and jumps up. Maxie asks, what’s wrong?

Gladys asks if Cody hears her. She doesn’t want him anywhere near Sasha. He gets up and says, they both know that Gladys isn’t in any position to give him orders. She says, he doesn’t intimidate her, poking him in the chest, and he says he’d really prefer if she didn’t touch him. She says, oh yeah? Is he going to stop her? She pushes him, and he grabs her wrist.

Sasha sees Gladys struggling with Cyrus, and Maxie asks if she’s all right. Sasha goes to the bar and grabs a knife. Gladys tells Cody to let her go, when Sasha comes up behind him and stabs him. He turns around, feeling his back, and sees blood on his hand. Sasha holds a bloody knife, and Cody says, why? sinking to his knees.

Tomorrow, (the real) Cyrus says he wants it to end; Kristina asks if that’s really how someone sees her; and Esme tells someone that they’re the only one who can get her the information she needs.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

This episode was everything I don’t like about the show. Mostly Tamra. Seriously, this woman needs medication, and if she’s on it already, she needs a changeup.

Aww, Archie was still alive. Nothing sweeter than an old Golden Retriever. Shannon was also still with John. It’s weird when you know things have changed since filming. They’d been discussing living together, but not in any detail. She wasn’t in any rush. In her interview, she said, some people rush into things, but she prefers to take her time. There were red flags with David she refused to see. John said he got stressed out just hearing about the things in Shannon’s world, and she said she also had three kids going to college soon. He wished she could turn her mind off; it was spinning all the time.

Tamra and Emily went for a pedicure, and Tamra told Emily about Heather shoveling sh*t and how she’d said she appreciated those who did manual labor now. In Emily’s interview, she said, it was mind-boggling that Heather had an ah-ha moment about appreciating manual labor in her 50s. Heather joined them, and Emily asked how Taylor was on the trip. Heather said Taylor claimed she was condescending, and Emily said, Heather could be hurtful. Heather said Emily was assuming she was in the wrong, but Emily said, Heather came across like she was better than everyone else and her life was more important. Maybe she didn’t mean it, but it’s how it was being received. In Heather’s interview she said, let’s talk about Emily’s behavior – ugh. I hate those what about you? people – and in Emily’s interview, she said, maybe no one ever told Heather before. I’m guessing, Heather never let them get a word in. Heather told them she’d planned a Duffy (a golf cart on the water!) cruise before dinner, and Tamra said she couldn’t make it because she had an audition for Taylor’s new movie, which was actually pretty funny.

Jenn did her namaste thing at her yoga studio. She said she needed the studio because she wanted to feel like she didn’t need to rely on anyone to provide for her and the kids. Gina came to visit, and said Jenn was the only person she’d do yoga for. She felt badly about what happened in Montana, and said she’d been forced to process feelings she hadn’t processed yet. She’d been where Jenn was. Jenn said she felt bad for a long time, but realized the people who love you might not approve of your behavior, but they would still love you. Stuff was said by Tamra that she had no idea, and she’d told Tamra to talk to her, not the group. In Gina’s interview, she said, Jenn had big expectations for someone who was never going to show up for her. Tamra had already shown up and dragged Jenn’s ass all over town.

Emily’s dog Togo was wearing the cone of shame, and Shane suggested everyone wear one so he didn’t feel alone. Ha-ha! I don’t care what anyone says; I like Shane. Emily had gotten childhood pictures from her mom, and in Emily’s interview, she said her mother was depressed when they were little and slept a lot. She and her sister had to fend for themselves. She told Shane that her mom hadn’t been there since 2019, and he suggested Emily have her visit. She called her mom and said the pictures made her realize how quickly the kids were growing, and she thought her mom should visit. In her interview, Emily said she wanted get past anger and hurt, and let it go. She didn’t need an apology. She just wanted to go forward. Run, Emily. You’re much to sane for this Housewives nonsense.

Shannon took the twins shopping after their trip to Paris with their father. I only mention this because ugh, David. In Shannon’s interview, she said she was passionate about things that weren’t toxic, and wanted the girls to get clothes from a consignment shop, but it was a hard no on most of it. There was a huge discussion about the twins going to college, but all I came away with was that it was about $75K a year, and Shannon didn’t think they’d be inundated with scholarships. Shannon said she’d foot the bill for a college counselor, since apparently David can afford a trip to Paris, but not help for his kids to go to school.

Before the Duffy ride, Gina told Emily that she was still pissed at Heather, and Emily told Gina not to mess up the pool party she was going to have. Taylor arrived first, and Heather told her, the movie thing had gotten out of control. She was sorry for hurting Taylor’s feelings, and Taylor said, same. In Heather’s interview, she wasn’t quite as sorry. She was hoping they just made it to the entrée, and we flashed back to Heather kicking everyone out of her house last season. Poor acting coach Lauren also got roped into this trip, although maybe she’s taking notes for Marat/Sade. Tamra immediately started to irritate me, since she has no inside voice, and the only volume she has is high pitched and loud. Emily invited everyone to her pool party at her mother-in-law’s house, and I’m sure she’ll be sorry. Shannon pointed out the bridge John lived under, and Emily and I wondered if he was a troll. He really just lives in a houseboat, but that was exactly what it sounded like.

After the Duffy ride, they went to a restaurant. Heather made everyone sign a card for Max, who was having a hard time in Boston. She also had a personalized chopsticks at every place setting, as well as a candle. It said in Japanese, too fabulous to shovel sh*t, and in her interview, Emily said she didn’t know anyone who was so unaware of being unaware. I wonder why it’s always a candle, but I’m not a candle person. Tamra zeroed in on Jenn right away, and said Gina had been triggered by Jenn in Montana. Jenn said she and Gina had a real talk, and decided they were going forward. Emily asked if Jenn felt she was overlooking red flags, and Jenn said she’d get concerned if Ryan f***ed up (i.e. actually cheated). Tamra wasn’t having it because of Ryan cheating when they were on a break. She didn’t think Ryan was going to be loyal, and that’s what hurt. Jenn said, what hurt was Tamra airing her dirty laundry. Tamra’s pitch got higher as she babbled about Ryan wanting to do her, and how rumor had it he went after married women. Jenn intimated that Tamra had eyeballed Ryan before she and Ryan got together, and Tamra threw a napkin in Jenn’s face, and stormed out, saying, you need to leave your f***ing boyfriend, you f***ing bitch. In Jenn’s interview, she said, Tamra claimed she wanted to show up in the friendship, but this wasn’t showing up. She didn’t have one other friend who acted like this. News flash. I have no friends who act like this.

Shannon chased after Tamra, and in her interview, Heather said, Tamra could be mean (like this was a revelation) and she just didn’t want it directed toward her. Tamra told Shannon that Jenn was dating a d-bag, while at the table, Emily asked if Jenn was saying Tamra had the hots for Ryan. Jenn said there had been a lot of joking about how hot he was, and in Jenn’s interview, she said, Tamra had joked about it at the time, but now it made her uncomfortable. It wasn’t fair. In Shannon’s interview, she said, Jenn may be an idiot, but let her figure it out on her own. It troubles me when Shannon is the voice of reason. Tamra said she needed a shot of tequila which was probably the last thing she needed. Jenn said she didn’t believe the comment about Ryan wanting to do Tamra, but ever the bearer of hearsay tidings, Heather said, Tamra had heard it from several people. In Emily’s interview, she wondered how many napkins had to smack Jenn in the face before she says something negative about Tamra. Clearly more than one. At the bar inside, Tamra yelled that she needed a shot and a Xanax, then made a rude comment to a married guy at the bar. In her interview, Emily said she thought Heather was afraid of Tamra, since she could be nasty. As soon as Tamra came around again, Heather wasn’t interested in anyone else. We saw a clip where Emily told Gina that Heather needed a change of address card that said Tamra’s ass. Gina said she was pissed about to Heather throwing her under the bus in Montana, and looking back, she wondered if Heather was her friend or not.

Tamra wasn’t sure if she wanted to go back to the table, but she did. Gina wondered if Heather was trying to manage the relationship between Shannon and Tamra, and she was getting left. Shannon wondered what they’d walked in on, and Heather told Gina that she had personal issues going on. Lauren filled Shannon in on the drama, and Tamra told Jenn that she was sorry about the napkin, but she was livid. In Jenn’s interview, she said, Tamra could take her napkin back and clean up her own mess. Gina said, Heather had hurt her feelings a couple of times, and Heather said it hadn’t been her intention and admitted she’d crossed the line with the Travis thing. In Gina’s interview, she said she was happy that Heather seemed to have heard her. All the personalized chopsticks and candles in world didn’t do anything if she wasn’t sure about the friendship. Heather got all dramatic over Terry texting her about David getting divorced, but Shannon already knew. Tamra pulled her chair over to hear the gossip better, and Shannon said, he filed on their anniversary. In Shannon’s interview, she said she’d heard rumblings that things weren’t going well, but her main concern was her own kids. In Taylor’s interview, she wondered when they’d have a girls dinner where there was actually food. The waiters were probably afraid to come to the table. The food did come, and Gina said she was glad they made it to dinner. One of the waiters flambéed wagyu steak at the table, but sadly, Tamra did not catch on fire.

Next time, a Slip N Slide; Vicki is back; Taylor tells Jenn that Tamra got the Ryan stories from Heather; and Shannon says her relationship is over if this is on the air.

🎢 Adding To the Confusion…

I guess they couldn’t hold her spot forever, but can we close the revolving door now? And what about Kristina? Are we done there?

🗽 Because I like to torture myself, I watched the new RHONY again. I guess what I’d expected that wasn’t delivered was more sophistication. What I got was juvenile. Too much behind the back petty talk and I’m better than you bullsh*t. I think Ramona’s antics were getting old, but the old RHONY cast had a certain level of NYC sophistication. They could have shown the Ramonacoaster the door and brought a few more Leahs in so we could go downtown more. And I don’t mean that as a euphemism. I mean like the Village and Soho. The old cast might have been drunker, but they were part of the fun of the city.

🪟 Closing the Drapes…

Stop in tomorrow for soap and freshly brewed tea. Until then, stay safe, stay using your utensils from the outside in, and stay actually working past things and not just overlooking them.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny asks if Nina has talked to Obrecht, but she says, no, and the MetroCourt is super busy because a convention is in town. He says he knows she’s anxious to hear that Obrecht has done everything she needs to do to be a bone marrow donor for Willow.

Michael wheels Willow out of the hospital elevator, and Obrecht says, she didn’t have to be here for this meeting. Willow says, Obrecht didn’t either, but Obrecht says she sees it differently. She owes it to her dear, departed Britta. She couldn’t save her daughter’s life, but if she can save Willow’s… Willow says she’ll be forever grateful. Obrecht says, remember what she told her; like it or not, she’s one of them now.

Austin sees Mason in a private area of the MetroCourt, and Mason tells him, have a seat, but Austin says he’s meeting someone. Mason says, if Austin is referring to Ava, he’d better make time for both their sakes.

Sonny says, Nina needs a distraction, and Nina sees Ava at the bar sipping a martini. She says, there’s someone who needs distracting just as much as she does, and they walk over. Nina tells Ava, you know what they say about drinking alone, and Ava flashes back to telling Austin that she’s sure Nikolas was dead, and him asking, then where is he? Sonny says, she’s not waiting for Nikolas to show up again, is she?

A nurse tells Spencer that they just need a couple of signatures, and he can take the baby home, but Diane joins them and says, there’s been a change of plans. She’s sorry, but that baby’s not going anywhere. Victor asks if she knows who she’s speaking with, and she laughs and says, her client. Laura says, it will be okay, and give them a chance to reconsider their plan, but Spencer says, there’s nothing to reconsider, as he takes the baby from Victor. His baby brother belongs with him. Diane says, unfortunately, his mother disagrees.

Esme pushes the nurse call button, and Elizabeth comes in. Esme says she’s glad to see Elizabeth, and asks if Elizabeth can bring her baby. Elizabeth says she can, but they have to talk first, and Esme says she hopes Elizabeth is going to walk her through the mommy menu. She can’t think of anyone she’d rather have teach her how to be a good parent. Elizabeth says, Esme may not feel that way after Esme hears what she has to say, but Esme says she can’t imagine that. Elizabeth sits down and says, Esme needs to know how she ended up here.

Alexis thanks Gregory for his input and coming by on such short notice, and Gregory says, any time. Not only does he enjoy the work, she’s a friend. She says, then why is he lying to her? and he asks what he’s lying about. She says, he told her that he couldn’t take the job at The Invader because he was bound to his teaching gig at PCU, and he says, it’s a conflict of interest, but she asks, how it can be if he doesn’t have a job? He asks how she’d know, and she says she offered him the job and he said he wanted it, but PCU had a conflict of interest, which didn’t make any sense to her, so she called Dean Jeffries. She hoped she could convince him that Gregory could do both, since that’s what he said he wanted to do. He admits he said that, and she tells him that she’s asking again, why did he lie to her?

Obrecht says, no doubt they’re wondering if her willingness to participate comes with a price tag, and Michael says, now that she mentions it… but Willow tells him, let’s just be grateful Liesl is a match. Obrecht says, it’s an honest question that deserves an equally honest answer, when Terry comes out and suggests they go to her office to discuss the next steps. They follow her.

Ava says, so Obrecht is a bone marrow match. She’s thrilled for Nina and for Willow. Nina says, it’s not a sure thing yet, but it’s a step in the right direction, and Ava says, after she lost Kiki, she swore she’d never lose Avery. After Nina’s loss, she’s rooting for Nina to have a relationship with Willow. She and Nina hug.

The nurse leaves, and Victor says, if Nikolas were here, Esme wouldn’t make such an outrageous claim, and Laura says, no, she woudn’t, but unfortunately, her son’s not here. Spencer says, but he is. Esme’s going back to Spring Ridge while she awaits trial. When she’s convicted – which she most certainly will be – she’s going back to Pentenville. Diane can’t tell him that the court, even on its cruelest day, would think that’s a good environment for a baby. A woman walks up, and Diane says, this is Janet Kershaw from child services. Laura says, they’ve met before, and she’s relieved Janet is involved with this case. She’s sure they can reach a decision that’s best for this child. Janet says, that’s up for the court to decide. Esme Prince has filed a motion for custody of her baby once she’s transferred back to Spring Ridge.

Esme asks how she wound up here, and Elizabeth says, she’d been missing for a while. Everyone, including the police, thought she was The Hook killer. Elizabeth was on the pier waiting to go to Windymere, when Esme showed up. Of course (🍷) she called 9-1-1, but Esme went for her phone, and they struggled and Elizabeth fell down and hit her head. Esme asks if she pushed Elizabeth, but Elizabeth says, no. They struggled over the phone, and when she fell, she went unconscious. It wasn’t until she saw Esme again that she realized Esme was pregnant. Being a nurse, she felt it was her obligation to protect the baby. Esme asks what she means. Protect her baby how?

Austin says, whatever Mason has to tell him, say it fast. It’s not polite to keep a lady waiting. Mason says, that’s right. Austin is a gentleman. He can’t resist a damsel in distress. If Ava was alone on that island with no one to help her, Austin would cross the water and make it his business to help her. Austin says he doesn’t know what Mason is talking about, and Mason says, if he’s worried about the ex-Mrs. Cassadine, she’s probably on her second or third martini by now. He’s not judging her, with everything they’ve been through lately. He followed Austin to Spoon Island that night. He saw everything.

Elizabeth says, Nikolas needed someone to care for Esme until she gave birth, and Esme says, when he came to see her at Spring Ridge with those papers that gave him full custody, he never said anything about Elizabeth taking care of her. Elizabeth says, he was keeping it a secret. He kept Esme under lock and key, in a tower in his home. Esme says, Elizabeth is telling her that she was Nikolas’s prisoner, and she helped him? and Elizabeth says, yes.

Austin says he doesn’t know what Mason thinks he saw, but Ava hasn’t done anything wrong; neither has he. Mason tells Austin that he said that with conviction… and he does mean conviction. He’s sure if Austin tells any judge that story, they’ll believe him, and his lady friend. Austin says he still has no idea what Mason is talking about, and Mason says, some stable at Windymere, huh? And that tack room – he whistles – downright luxurious. But he doesn’t have to tell Austin that, does he?

Alexis asks why Gregory felt he couldn’t confide in her. Is he under some sort of gag order? He says, no, and she asks if litigation is involved. If there is, she’ll back off. He says, Alexis Davis backs off; now there’s a headline. She says she wants him to work here, and he wanted to work here. That can never happen if there’s mistrust. And just so he knows, the dean didn’t offer any additional information, so she doesn’t know what to think. Was he suspended? Was he fired? Talk to her. Maybe she can help him. He says, unfortunately, she can’t. No one can.

Spencer says he thought it was bad enough he had to serve time in prison, but he actually committed the crime. Is Janet telling him that now his innocent baby brother has to be there too? Janet says, in certain cases and certain facilities, the State of New York allows a mother to keep her child with her for the first 18 months she’s incarcerated. Spencer says, the baby is Uncle Victor’s family too, and deserves to be home with them, and Victor says, spoken like a true Cassadine. If it’s a matter of proving Spencer has the means to care for a child, they have his personal guarantee. Diane says, here his personal guarantee might do more harm than good, and Laura says, Nikolas’s baby is also her family. Whether they like it or not, they can’t just take Esme out of the equation. She is after all the baby’s mother.

Elizabeth says, at the time, she had reason to believe Esme was a threat, and didn’t know what Nikolas was going to do to her after she had the baby. Esme says she only has Elizabeth’s word for that, and Elizabeth says she knows what it’s like to have gaps in your memory. Esme says, Elizabeth just told her that she was locked in a tower like some princess in a fairytale. What else doesn’t she know? How did she escape? Did she let her hair down and climb down like Rapunzel? Elizabeth says, no, she jumped from the turret into the harbor, and Esme says she could have died, and her baby… Elizabeth says, but she didn’t, and she lost her memory, but she saved her baby. Esme says, no thanks to his father… or Elizabeth, and Elizabeth says she doesn’t blame Esme for feeling the way she does, but if Esme thinks Elizabeth owes her an apology, she couldn’t be more wrong.

Ava, Nina, and Sonny sit at a table in the MetroCourt restaurant, and Ava orders another martini, champagne, and sparkling water. Sonny thinks Ava has as much to celebrate as Nina and Willow. The way he sees it, she hit the trifecta. She helped capture The Hook killer, Ryan Chamberlain is dead, and Nikolas Cassadine is nowhere to be found on this earth. He’d say that’s a lot to celebrate. Nina says she sees his point, and good riddance to Ryan Chamberlain, but she knows how much Ava loved Nikolas. She tells Ava not to give up hope. He’ll realize what he’s missing, come back, and try to make things right, but Ava says she doubts that.

Obrecht says, as a reminder, she’s a doctor too. What kind of hoops does she have to jump through to make this happen? Terry says, being a potential match is a crucial first step, but before they go ahead with the transplant, they need to know it’s safe for Obrecht to donate. They have to run additional tests and weigh those results… Obrecht says, against her age and medical history, and see if something comes up to disqualify her as a donor.

Alexis asks why Gregory thinks he can’t talk to anyone about this; is it that severe? He says, as one friend to another, he’s asking her to let this go and forget about it. She says she’s sorry, but she can’t do that. In friendship, there’s trust, and he says, and if he were to ask her to trust him to know what’s good for him… She asks if it’s good for him to keep something that appears to be this critical from someone who cares about him. If that’s the case, she’ll have to reevaluate their friendship. He asks if she means end it.

Nina says, it’s hard for her to sit there and do nothing when Obrecht might be able to save Willow’s life. Sonny says there’s nothing he can do to stop her, and Michael and Willow don’t want to see him. So go ahead and go. She thanks him for understanding, and gets up to leave, but hostess Ashley intercepts her, and says, there’s a problem with the AC.

Terry asks if Obrecht is on any medications, and Obrecht says she’s taking an anticoagulant. Terry says she’ll have to consult with Obrecht’s physician, and leaves. Obrecht says she’ll give Michael and Willow some privacy, but Michael asks her to stay. She never answered the question. Obrecht says, what’s in it for her? When you lose a child, or in her case two children, it forever shapes your world perspective. Willow says she still grieves for her son Jonah every day. She can’t imagine the pain Obrecht suffered losing two grown children. Obrecht says, that’s why she was so pleased to find out she had a new family member in Willow. Willow was in need of help, and it never occurred to her not to be a donor, so Willow could have the kind of life her Britta can no longer enjoy.

Austin asks what Mason wants, and Mason says, what he’s always wanted; for Austin to remember his responsibilities. Austin says he knows where he comes from, and knows how far he’s come. Nothing and nobody will make him go back. Mason says, Austin is smart. He’ll figure it out on his own, and in the end, he’ll do the right thing.

Esme says, Elizabeth helped Nikolas keep her prisoner, and she was so desperate she jumped off a turret into a harbor, but Elizabeth doesn’t think she deserves an apology? Elizabeth admits she went about it all wrong, but she thought she was protecting the people she loves, as well as keeping Esme and the baby safe. Esme says she thought Elizabeth was on her side, but doesn’t know what to believe now. What if the police find out? Elizabeth says, they know, and Esme asks how she’s walking around free. Elizabeth says, because she voluntarily came forward and made a statement, and Esme asks if that’s why Nikolas disappeared; he knew he’d be a wanted man? Elizabeth assumes so, and says, all of this will become public knowledge soon enough. She just wanted Esme to hear it from her. She owes Esme that much. She starts to leave, but Esme says, there’s one more thing she needs to know. Did she want her baby? Was she trying to get rid of it and that’s why Nikolas locked her away?

Spencer tells Janet, now that Esme’s serial killer father is dead, her remaining family is Heather Webber, who murdered a very dear friend of his, as well as attacked his lawyer. So does she really think it’s in the best interest of the child? Diane suggests he reign back his rhetoric a little; he’s not winning her any points with child services. Laura asks, what happens now? and Janet says, the baby will remain here in the nursery until his mother is transferred to Spring Ridge. The nurse s to take the baby, but Spencer says he’s not giving him up. Laura says, he doesn’t want to upset the baby, does he? and Victor says, for once, he agrees with Laura. Don’t worry. This isn’t over yet. Diane says, this all has to be argued in family court in front of a judge, but until that time, Spencer complies with all the court orders. Spencer says, okay, but he wants to go one record that this goes against everything he wants for his baby brother. Like anyone cares. He gives the baby to the nurse.

Ava asks why she should be fearful about Nikolas returning to Port Charles, and Sonny says, his guess is, Ava still has a thing for him. Their marriage ended badly, but if Nikolas came back, she’d be tempted to get back together with him. Is he close? She says, no. It was hard to learn, but she learned her lesson. He says he’s happy for her, but wonders why Nikolas wouldn’t make contact, especially after everything that’s happened with Ryan Chamberlain. She says, her relationship with Nikolas was always tempestuous. Their marriage didn’t stand a chance after Ryan decided to use Esme to destroy it. Sonny asks if that’s what Ryan told her, and she says, he bragged about it, right up until she shot him. Thankfully, Mac ended his life altogether. Sonny still thinks it’s strange she hasn’t heard from Nikolas. He doesn’t like Nikolas, but between the birth of his new kid and finding out Ryan ended his marriage, he’d think Nikolas would come running back to her. But he hasn’t. So he’s going to ask her, what’s stopping him?

Michael says he’s incredibly grateful for Obrecht’s kindness, but it seems like there’s another reason she’s doing this. Willow asks if Michael is right, and Obrecht says, her fiancé is correct. She appreciates him being so direct, and will return it in kind. It’s no secret how they feel about Nina, but her niece was devastated when she found out she wasn’t a match to be a donor. So she appeals to Willow as a mother. She knows Willow isn’t ready to think of Nina as her mom, and maybe never will be. All she’s asking for is for Willow to imagine a time when maybe Nina isn’t her enemy. If she can open her heart to that possibility, that will be all the thanks she needs.

Austin says, well, this was fun. Mason got his points in, and he’s out of here. Mason tells him to go have a chitchat with his partner in crime Ava. He searched her online; she’s been around the block. She knows when it’s time to fight, and when it’s time to negotiate.

Nina tells Ashley that there shouldn’t be any more problems, but if there’s anything else, let her know; she’ll be at GH. Austin comes in, and Nina says, Ava is right over there if he’s looking for her. He says he was, and she says, he and Ava seem inseparable these days, and it makes her wonder why they’re together.

Diane says she’ll go with Janet to fill out the paperwork, and Janet says, of course (🍷). They leave, and Laura tells Spencer that they’ll do everything in their power to make sure his brother gets the best possible care. Victor says he’s going to do everything within the law, and even outside of it if necessary, to make sure Spencer gets custody of their newest Cassadine. Don’t worry. He leaves, and Laura says she’s so sorry. Spencer says he’s sorry too. His little brother shouldn’t be in a hospital nursery, and shouldn’t be shipped off to prison before he’s a month old. Like Uncle Victor said, this isn’t over.

Elizabeth says she can’t tell Esme what was in her heart. There was a time she thought Esme was incapable of loving anyone but herself. Esme says, if what Elizabeth told her is true, and she jumped off the turret at Windymere, she must have been pretty desperate, and not thinking about the baby by doing something so dangerous. Elizabeth says, they may never know, but when she surfaced, she seemed to have left the old Esme behind her. In a way, she’s been given a blank slate – Spencer walks in – a fresh start. It’s up to Esme what she does with it. Spencer tells her that he couldn’t have said that better himself, and Esme asks what he wants; to keep playing her so he can take her baby away from her? He says she has a lot on her plate now that she’ll be returning to Spring Ridge, but she says, the difference is, now she knows what he didn’t tell her. Spencer asks Elizabeth what she’s talking about, and Elizabeth says she’s going to let them work it out. She hopes they can both put aside their own needs for the sake of the baby. She leaves, and Spencer sits down. He says he doesn’t know what Elizabeth told her, but he thinks she’d be making a huge mistake if she takes the baby to prison with her. She says he needs to correct his word choice. It’s not the baby; it’s her baby. Hers, not his, and definitely not his father’s now that she knows he locked her up as his prisoner and threw away the key.

Alexis apologizes, and says, Gregory is right; it is his business. But doesn’t he think he’d feel better if he could talk to someone who cares about him? That’s what friends are for. He says he appreciates what she’s trying to do, but he’s asking her to respect his privacy. She says, if he can’t talk to her, she hopes there’s someone he can talk to, and he says, if she’s thinking about telling Chase or Finn about this… She says, they don’t know? and he says, nobody knows, and it’s going to stay that way.

Austin says, nothing like a near-death experience at the hands of two psychopaths to jumpstart a friendship. Does Nina not approve? Nina says, no, on the contrary. She thinks it’s great. Ava has been very lonely since her marriage with Nikolas blew up. She could use another good, trusted friend. Austin thanks her for the vote of confidence, and says he’ll do the best he can. She says she has to go to GH, but a word to the wise. Ava acts like she’s really tough, but she’s vulnerable inside. He says, good to know, and Nina leaves. Austin watches Ava talking to Sonny, then turns to see Austin behind him.

Willow says she’s incredibly grateful for Obrecht volunteering, and if it turns out she can be the donor, she’ll be forever in Obrecht’s debt, but it’s impossible for her to put aside everything Nina has done to her, Michael, and Wiley. She knows how much Obrecht loves Nina and would never tell her not to… Obrecht says, just as she can’t expect Willow to love her; she understands that. But ift Willow does get a second chance at life, she asks Willow to ask herself if she wants to spend it denying someone who’s been waiting their whole life to love her. Willow says she doesn’t think Nina loves her personally; she loves having a daughter. In fact, before Nina found out she was Willow’s mother, she couldn’t stand her. So this about-face seems more like it’s about Nina than about her. Obrecht says, that could describe her. Britta’s childhood was about her; her desperate need to impress Britt’s father, and to mold Britt into the daughter she desired. It wasn’t until the last few years of Britta’s life when she realized how wrong she’d been. She apologized to her daughter, and Britt mercifully forgave her. In those last years, she and Britt not only became mother and daughter, but friends. She can only wish the same for Willow and Nina, despite Nina’s shortcomings. Wow. Who knew Obrecht was one day going to turn into the voice of reason? Terry comes in, and says, the last round of tests are ready. She asks Obrecht to come with her, and promises she’ll give Michael and Willow an update as soon as she can. Obrecht leaves with her, and Michael tells Willow, let’s go home.

Ava tells Sonny that she knows she’s said it before, but she’s through with Nikolas; she means it this time. She hopes she’s seen the last of him. Austin sits at another table, and watches. Sonny says, he doesn’t like Nikolas, but it’s amazing she’s come to the same conclusion. It seemed to him that she was more afraid of Nikolas returning than staring down Ryan Chamberlain. Did Nikolas threaten her? Ava says, Nikolas didn’t threaten her. He threatened Avery.

Alexis says she thought Gregory was closer than ever to his sons, and he says he is, but his boys have enough going on in their lives without worrying about him. She says, that’s what families do. That’s what friends do. If Chase and Finn… He says, if she’s the friend she says she is, she’ll do as he asks. He heads for the door, and she says she is his friend. She’s very sorry for whatever’s going on with him, and sorry she’s upset him, but she’s not sorry for being concerned. He gives her a nod, and leaves.

Diane wonders where everyone went, and Laura says, to their separate corners. Diane says she did some checking, and there’s nothing to prevent Esme from taking the baby to Spring Ridge, for the short term. Laura says she understands Esme’s desire to keep her baby close to her, but given her history, this is very complicated. What are Spencer’s chances of gaining custody of his little brother? Diane says she’s spoken to Spencer about this. Michael Corinthos was able to gain custody of his little sister Avery, and Spencer and Michael are very similar in terms of resources, so there is precedent. However, it would be so much better if Spencer could get Esme to cooperate.

Spencer asks if Elizabeth told Esme that she was his father’s prisoner, and she says, as if he didn’t know. He swears it’s all new information to him. It would explain why she was missing for so long, but he wonders, if it’s true, how would Elizabeth know? She says, never mind. He’ll find out soon enough. And so will the judge, and there will be no way they’ll take her baby away from her. He says, if she truly cares about her son the way he thinks she does, she doesn’t want her baby raised in a prison. She wants him to be with a family that loves him very dearly. She says, her son’s name is Ace, and she doesn’t need lessons in love from him. He talks a good game just like Nikolas did, but he’s no better than his father. (Ouch!) It’s because she loves her son that she won’t let Spencer anywhere near him.

Elizabeth walks toward the hospital exit, and Victor says, she can run, but she can’t hide. She says she doesn’t have time for this. She has to go home to her boys. He says he does admire her maternal instinct. Is that what prompted her to throw in with his nephew to keep Esme prisoner? He has plenty of evidence proving she helped Nikolas keep Esme captive, and he’ll send it to the authorities unless she tells him where he might find Nikolas. She asks, what makes him think she knows? and he says, that’s the way she wants to play it? Don’t say he didn’t warn her. He starts to walk away, and she says, no, she’s warning him. In a short time, his so-called evidence will be worthless, and he’ll have no power over her. But good luck with finding Nikolas. She walks out, the doors making a satisfying swishing sound. Not. Victor’s. Day.

Sonny asks what Ava means about Nikolas threatening their daughter, and she says she means he said he’d try to take Avery away from her, which is ridiculous, right? He has zero chance in court. It’s an empty threat meant to wound her, and it did, but don’t give it a second thought. Nikolas is gone. He’s left Port Charles, and probably left the country. Sonny says, it’s one thing to threaten him or Ava, but if Nikolas threatens their daughter in any way, he’ll find Nikolas; he doesn’t care where he’s hiding. Ava tells him to please let it go, but Sonny says, if Nikolas has anything over her, he can help.

Michael wheels Willow to the elevator, and he asks if she’s okay. She says she’s just thinking about what Aunt Liesl said. If she’s lucky enough to get a second chance at life, she needs to start thinking about how she wants to spend it… and if Nina has any part in it. Nina comes out of the elevator, and she and Willow look at each other.

Tomorrow, TJ asks Molly if they’re having a baby; Willow wants to talk to Nina about something; Sonny needs Olivia’s help; and Dex tells Michael that Sonny might be on to him.

Below Deck

Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. Captain Lee says, it feels goddam good to be back. He feels better than a dog having its belly rubbed. In Ben tells Ross that it’s been an emotional roller coaster with the captain gone and then coming back, while Camille is pulling at his heartstrings. Ross thinks they should get a discount on end of the season counseling. Rachel hugs Captain Lee, and in her interview, she says she likes Captain Sandy and has mad respect for her, but she loves Captain Lee. He means a lot to her as a person. She says she’s glad he’s back, and he says he’s glad to be back. The captain radios Fraser to come to his quarters. They hug, and Captain Lee asks, how are things? Fraser says, good, and tells the captain that a new crew member arrived about an hour ago; she was a chief stew on her last boat. Rachel explains to Leigh-Ann that the guests want tropical cocktails. Leigh-Ann tells Hayley that she knows Ben, and in Hayley’s interview, she says, the plot thickens. It’s going to be horrific. She laughs and says, poor Ben. Fraser says, the steel drummer is coming at two, and they have a cocktail pairing tonight. In his interview, he says he’s never done a pairing before, but they have to cater to all the guests’ needs. Rachel says, they’re having a Caribbean lunch, and Hayley tells Leigh-Ann about Camille. In Leigh-Ann’s interview, she says she’s disappointed. She’s never been in a situation where there was another girl before. But they’re in yachting; how serious can it be? Fraser asks how long Leigh-Ann was on her last boat, and she says, four years; she was chief stew at the end. In Fraser’s interview, he says he’s concerned about how much experience his new crew member has. She’s was a chief stew longer than he’s been, but it’s his boat now. If she jumps in and does what she’s told, they’ll have no issues. The captain radios for everyone to come to the Sky Lounge.

Captain Lee says, it’s a little different, but it’s great to be back. He thanks them for cooperating with Captain Sandy. She did him a solid by filling in. In his interview, the captain says, he was madder than a pissed on chicken, and he’d be goddamned if didn’t finish what started. Everyone welcomes him back, and he says, let’s get after it. Last minute touches are done to the boat, and the guests arrive. In Katie’s interview, she says she’s met a lot of frat boys in Miami. They’re loud and obnoxious. It’s like she’s back in south Florida. The captain says, Fraser will give them the tour, and they’ll get underway. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says, being behind the wheel again is great; it’s where he belongs. It’s like riding a bike, but a big bike. One of the guests says his Wi-Fi password is s*ckmyd*ck. I understand this, since I have some questionable passwords involving eBay. Fraser tells Leigh-Ann that she’s going to be on bar, and in Rachel’s interview, she says, the guests have requested a seafood extravaganza paired with beverages. They’re going to be hammered. Guests don’t pair well with pairing menus. The guests say, blah-blah- blah mortgage business, and in Leigh-Ann’s interview, she says, she’s stressing her t*ts off. She’s just jumped on, and doesn’t know Rachel’s cooking enough to do a cocktail match. She and Fraser come up with drinks together, and in her interview, she says, fake it til you make it. That’s what she’ll be doing until she knows where everything is. She’s taking it by the balls and winging it.

The drummer arrives, and plays as the guests sit down to lunch. I’m not sure why anyone would want to have a steel drummer playing as they sit down to eat; it sounds like it would be annoying. Primary Jake says, they’re off to a good start. Everyone had better be the happiest they’ve ever been. Fraser says, it’s going to be a heavily fueled meal, and Rachel introduces first course – some kind of heirloom tomato soup that sounds wonderful, until I hear it’s being paired with a gin/elderflower tonic and my stomach turns. In Hayley’s interview, she says, cocktail after cocktail; things are going to be broken later. She hopes not her or her soul. The captain sees nothing but wind, and sighs. In Ben’s interview, he says he has a connection with Camille, and they’re going to see each other in the Dominican Republic after the season ends. He’s also developed a connection with Leigh-Ann online, and needs to tell them about each other. He fake cries. Ross tells the captain that he’s going to follow the guests when they use the jet skis, and Captain Lee says, if it gets too crazy, let him know. He thinks the guests will be fun, but it’s going to be a long night. Leigh-Ann tells Ben that she’s on nights, and he says, so is he. She tells him that he’ll have to fill her in on the juicy parts. He admits he hooked up with one of the stews, and he’s sad she left, and in Tony’s interview, he says, the ghost of Camille, plus the sexual tension between Ben and Leigh-Ann has been going on a long time. It’s going to be just boom. He hopes not in the cabin.

Captain Lee joins the guests for dinner, and in Rachel’s interview, she says, it’s time to celebrate. She can’t wait to knock Captain Lee’s socks off. The pièce de resistance is salt encrusted branzino. At the table, the captain explains how you’re not allowed to bring a banana on a fishing boat. It’s bad luck, and you won’t catch any fish. Too bad he doesn’t explain what the logic, or lack thereof, is. Rachel brings out the entire fish, takes it out of the salt, and the guests are served at the table. One of the guests says she’s Jake’s sister-in-law, and within one year, Jake and her sister dated, moved in together, got engaged, and were expecting a baby. In Fraser’s interview, he says, it’s strange that the primary is sharing a cabin with his sister-in-law. He has no idea who these people are, and what their situations are after dark, but something doesn’t add up. The captain says, his wife claims they met through friends, but he doesn’t remember the first time they met. That’s what it’s going to say on his tombstone: you should have remembered me the first time. In Katie’s interview, she says, Ben doesn’t know what to do, and laughs. Her connection to Ross is getting stronger, and more serious. In Ross’s interview, he says, he’s happier when he’s having sex, but it hasn’t been regular enough recently. By that, I’m guessing he means ten times a day. The guests get in the hot tub, and Leigh-Ann and Ben talk about the first messages they sent. Drinks and sandwiches are served, and in her interview, Leigh-Ann says she’s never seen anyone drink so much. She loves margaritas, but this is next level. In Ben’s interview, he says, it’s time to get them to bed; they’re a pain in the bum. Guest Angel slips and falls, but he’s good. Ben texts Leigh-Ann that he’s so glad he met her, and she says, her too. Guess he’s not that head over heels for Camille.

In Fraser’s interview, he says he didn’t finish university, and felt like a failure. He still gets incredibly insecure, even though he knows what he’s doing is working. He’s still the baddest bitch on board. Ross tells the captain that the guests are keen to do a beach set-up, and in the captain’s interview, he says he wanted to be back. Now he’s back to the same goddam wind. They don’t call it the Windward Islands for nothing. Ross says he thinks wherever they put the gazebos, they’re going to disappear, and Fraser suggests having games at the beach with drinks and snacks, then lunch back on the boat. In his interview, Fraser says, he’s learned the hard way that his responsibility is to lead and delegate. Angel says he woke up covered in bruises, and the others tell him that he fell, but he doesn’t remember. Katie, Ross, and Ben leave to set up on the beach, and breakfast is served. Angel asks if Hayley is a ninja; she’s way too quiet. In Leigh-Ann’s interview, she says she thinks Fraser is challenging her. She’s had to learn everything the hard way. Her parents divorced when she was 8, and she eventually dropped out of school to lead the beach bum life, but she couldn’t do the surfer bum lifestyle. In Fraser’s interview, he says, Jake’s wife is in Chicago with the babies. Interesting. Ben radios the boat, and says they need gazebos because of the heat. In Ross’s interview, he says, since Leigh-Ann has joined the crew, he’s noticing a slight power struggle and the slightest tension. Fraser tells Ross that someone (i.e. Leigh-Ann) has been getting their chief stew boots on. People shouldn’t be getting creative; that’s his job.

Angel doesn’t even look at Fraser as he barks an order, and in the pantry, Fraser says, Angel is a bleepity-bleep. Hayley says, he just noticed? Gazebos are brought to the beach, and in Katie’s interview, she says she thinks it’s weird how Leigh-Ann and Ben have been flirting. Ben isn’t being truthful. He’s obsessed with Camille – we flash back – and needs to come clean. He’s creating feelings, and Leigh-Ann is going to be crushed. He can’t have his cake and eat it too. Fraser tells Hayley that Angel, aka Satan, is a horrible man who didn’t even look him in the face when he placed a drink order. Rachel tells Fraser that the food is packed and ready to go, and the guests head for the beach. Hayley tells Tyler that boyfriend Joss is going back to work by the time she gets home; he’s a drill operator offshore. In Tyler’s interview, he says, his dad is an emotionless man with traditional values. Every time he sees Tyler, he asks if he has a girlfriend. Ben tells the guests that they have cornhole, and there’s going to be a sack race and a three-legged race. Angel says he hates sand. Captain Lee tells Rachel that he likes the new crew. There’s not one scintilla of animosity, and he’s loving it. It feels great coming back. In his interview, he says he’s impressed with the cohesiveness of the crew. Captain Sandy did something right. He tells Rachel that it’s not like it normally is at this point in the season. Usually, everyone’s d*cks are in the dirt dragging down. Katie asks Leigh-Ann if it’s awkward with Ben, but Leigh-Ann says she doesn’t know how Ben is feeling. In Leigh-Ann’s interview, she asks why Ben is so f***ing hot.

Fraser says he has a horrible feeling the guests are hating the beach because he’s not there to make it amazing. The beach is sh*t, and the weather is sh*t. Tony says, they’ll get so wasted, they won’t know where they are, and yep, it looks that way. Fraser sets the lunch table, and makes jazz hands since he’s wearing white gloves. Camille texts Ben, and he says he misses her, but he’s working. The guests come back, and Leigh-Ann tells Ben that he’s a cool guy; she’s stoked. He fixes her collar, and in his interview, he says, they were talking every other day, and have unfinished business. In Leigh-Ann’s interview, she says, they’ve been chatting for over a year, and the chemistry was there. Now being with him, the chemistry is there. She’s the type of girl who goes for what she wants. Ben tells her that she’s a good flirt, and in Ben’s interview, he says he’s between a rock and a hard place. There’s going to be trouble. She’s going to be trouble. In her interview, Leigh-Ann says, she’s all in or nothing. He’d better be ready.

Next time, Angel passes out on the trampoline; Ben tells Leigh-Ann about Camille, but she decides to go for it anyway; the new primaries are bodybuilders, and Fraser says, they look intimidating.

🏖  When the awful people on Summer House aren’t being awful, they’re being boring. Danielle told Kyle that he needed to have another hard conversation with Carl, and they hugged it out. We saw everyone’s day jobs, and zzzzz… Carl met with Kyle at the newly acquired Loverboy office, and Kyle said first and foremost was their friendship. He felt bad, but it had been a slow build. Carl said he understand Kyle had to vent. but it was hard to hear from Danielle. He’d been the face of the brand and did public appearances. He felt he was wearing different hats, but not getting compensated for them. Kyle said, Carl claimed to be working 90 hour weeks, but he had a hard time figuring out if Carl was working 40 hours. Carl admitted to getting distracted, and Kyle suggested they reevaluate how Carl was spending his time. They should also rethink his title, and make sure he felt appreciated and liked what he was doing. He never wanted to let tension come between them again. In Kyle’s interview, he said their friendship came first, and he was going to do his best to support Carl as a friend and CEO. Yeah, until the next time he’s drunk.

It was a fast week, and we were back in the Hamptons in no time. Andrea was going to join them, and promised to cook dinner. The girls reminisced about the last time Andrea cooked dinner and a wine glass was thrown. We flashed back to that, and Ciara said it was not going to happen this year. The drinking commenced, and in Lindsay’s interview, she said she couldn’t be sure that Kyle was making Carl’s happiness a priority. There was no friendship in business. I kind of feel the same way. When I worked 9 to 5, I was always careful who I hung out with from work. At some jobs, it was no one. Paige wasn’t coming, since it was her brother’s birthday, and the housemates agreed their goal was to make it to the tiramisu. The girls sat outside and drank, while the guys cooked inside and drank. Danielle told Lindsay about bonding with Gabby over their mutual ex, and Lindsay told them that Carl and Kyle had talked. Carl appreciated it, and it cleared the air, but there still seemed to be no clear solution. Gabby asked if it affected Lindsay and Amanda’s relationship, and Lindsay told them that Amanda said Carl worked for her. She’d been supporting Loverboy more than Amanda, and had stayed sober – although not right now – to support Carl. Yet Amanda said she was manipulating her boyfriend. Inside, Andrea told the guys, when you taste food, you should taste passion.

The housemates gathered to eat, and Andrea said, everyone was beautiful, and he toasted to life and love in Italian. He said, last year, they’d talked about love and cried. This year, he wanted to know how they keep it sexy in the bedroom. Lindsay said, Carl loved zebras and she had these zebra boy shorts… but no one wanted to hear it. Then there was a bunch of TMI that I didn’t want to hear. After dinner was finished, Andrea jumped up, and said they were going to South Hamptons Social for dancing. Apparently, Sam is a talker, and Mya said she wasn’t telling Sam to be quiet and wasn’t coming for her, but enough already. Sam said, it’s a me thing. She couldn’t shut up, and no one wanted more of her. She cried, and Mya said there was more to her than that. Zzzzz…

They go out, but apparently it was so boring, we barely saw the club, and they were back at the house. They did the same boring dancing and drinking there, except for Lindsay and Carl, who turned in early. In Lindsay’s interview, she said, this summer was different from the last one where she was drunk every weekend. Now she had what she needed at the end of the night; it was right here in the room. Drunk Kyle made a solo trip to the kitchen looking for the goddam cookies. Then he toddled into Danielle’s room. As much as they could, they talked about their argument, and Kyle said he’d been puzzled at Carl’s behavior. Carl was caught up in his relationship, but Kyle swore he loved that. In Danielle’s interview, she said she knew being a couple made things different, but she wasn’t sure how different. She and Lindsay had been inseparable. We flashed back to that, and she said, when Carl came along, they were the tres amigos. Now it was just Lindsay and Carl. it was hard to figure out where she fit in.

Sam called her mom Kristine, and said she was in a house full of big personalities, and felt like she loved the sound of her own voice. One of the girls said she needed to pull it back, and she was too much for everyone. In Sam’s interview, she said, when she was in college, she dated an older man who drummed it into her that she was too much, and she was insecure about that. Kristine said, Sam was used to filling the space. She had to think balance, but be who she was. Kyle told some of the guys that he thought they could have had more fun last night, and he’d come to the conclusion that Carl… had a voice in his ear. I swear, I’m going to scream if I hear him say that one more time.

Ciara talked to Kyle about Amanda, and said she’d given an amazing tea party. She’d talked about her fertility journey, and that she hadn’t had a period for nine months, but was apprehensive about going to the doctor. Ciara was concerned. Women’s health wasn’t her specialty, but as a nurse, she didn’t want someone to take a chance when they wanted to be a mom. Kyle said it would be soul crushing if they found out they couldn’t have kids. Although a possible relief to the rest of the world.

The housemates had a slumber party, and Amanda pulled down Kyle’s pants showing his bare ass. This I can never unsee and I’m scarred for life. The guys were gifted with matching PJs, and Kyle talked to Amanda, who said she was scared. She didn’t want to know. Kyle said she needed to communicate, and she said she didn’t want to talk about her reproductive system anymore. I didn’t want to hear about it either. Danielle said they were going to play a game called Stir the Pot. You picked a card, and the question on it had to be answered. No surprise, it was mostly sex questions. Lindsay’s card read, who would you be most afraid to break up with, and everyone said, her. We flashed back to Lindsay screeching at various boyfriends, including Carl. Danielle’s card asked who she trusted the least, and she said, in a curveball, you can’t see what’s coming sense, she’d go with Amanda. Amanda started crying and walked out, saying, that felt personal.

Danielle said that it felt like Amanda was only her friend sometimes, and Ciara asked if something specific had happened. Lindsay said Amanda claimed she’d been manipulating Carl, and Danielle said there had been undertones of tension, but she didn’t understand why. Ciara said not every battle had to be Danielle’s. Lindsay whined that Amanda said she’d tainted Carl, who worked for her. Everything she did was wrong. Kyle said he was over this sh*t, and looked for Amanda. Amanda wandered past mumbling, and said she was going to bed. She told Kyle that she was done, and he said he was tired of this bullsh*t. Like a sabretooth tiger, he was going to go lose his mind. Whatever that meant. Danielle said she didn’t mean to stir the pot, and Lindsay pointed out that was literally the name of the game. Kyle came back, and said, Amanda had apologized to Danielle, who never responded. She was a master manipulator, and his wife deserved better. Danielle didn’t think they should do this here and now, and in Kyle’s interview, he said they didn’t know the real side of that evil conniving bitch. Kyle told them that his wife was the nicest person, but they were bitches who got in the way, and it made him sick. He stomped out, which he’s made into a lifestyle brand, and Danielle told Carl to say something. Kyle was being an a-hole. Like this was something new. Kyle stood in front of the house, and yelled, f*** everybody for giving Lindsay Hubbard so much power!

To be continued…

… aren’t you glad?
