Fear the Walking Dead

We see the zombies beneath the tower. Inside, John says he needs to talk to Victor. He’s going to be straight with Victor; he has some concerns about how Victor is running this place. We see Howard rifling through drawers, and John says, from his days as a cop, he knows you’re only as good as your partner. Howard finds a walkie in a drawer, and John says he thinks Victor deserves a partner who knows which way is up. On the roof, a young woman is screaming as she’s dragged toward the edge of the roof. She says she didn’t do anything, but Howard says he found the walkie under her mattress. Victor nods, and she’s pushed off the edge of the roof. John says, Victor built this place using his instincts – we see more people being pushed of the roof – but he’s got a few of own that he’s willing to share if Victor is willing to listen. June says, it will never work. The only voice Victor listens to is his own. John says, and he has yes-man Howard who won’t question him, and she asks why he thinks Victor likes Howard. John says, what Victor likes and needs are two different things, and she asks what he means. He says, things are going sideways, and Victor is paranoid. Ever since Morgan poisoned him, he’s convinced there’s a resistance in the tower. That’s why he’s cracking down on walkies. Charlie calls to June, who says she’ll be right in. John asks about Charlie’s skin, and June says, it’s the radiation. He asks how she’s doing, but June doesn’t say anything. He says, there’s nothing that can be done? and June says, not at Charlie’s level of exposure. All they can do is keep her comfortable for whatever time she has left. He says, what happened to Charlie doesn’t have to happen to anyone else. He can get through to Victor. He just needs the right opportunity. He thinks he can change Victor. She asks what makes him think Victor won’t change him, and John says, he won’t, but she says, look what happened to his son. He tried to beat Ginny at her own game, and it killed him; nobody got saved. A ranger comes in, and tells John that they found another walkie – in Howard’s room. He leaves, and John says, he told June that he just needed the right opportunity, and he thinks he just found it.

John knocks at Victor’s door, and Victor asks what he can do for him. John says, he’s going to be straight with Victor. He’s got concerns about how Victor is running this place.

On the roof in a thunderstorm, Howard swears it’s not his. Victor says, it was found in Howard’s room, but Howard says, Victor knows him. Victor says, does he? and Howard says he’s been by Victor’s side since the beginning, but Victor says, perhaps Howard has joined the dissenters. Howard says, this place means everything to him, and Victor says, Howard knows the rules. Howard says he didn’t do this, and Victor says he needs people he can trust. Howard no longer fits that description. Howard says, someone planted it, as he’s pushed toward the edge of the roof. Victor’s guys are about to pitch him over, but Victor gives them the sign to stop. He tells Howard, regardless of how it got there, he doesn’t believe a word Howard says until he has proof, and John will get it for him. The house (tower? roof?) phone rings, and Victor tells John to answer it. John says, when?… Are you sure? He tells Victor, they’ve got a problem.

Mo’s crib is empty, and Victor says, infants don’t vanish in to thin air. Howard says he’ll find her; let him do this. Victor says he doesn’t trust Howard, but Howard says, let him show Victor that he can. Victor can put rangers on him to make sure. Victor tells him to retrieve the child by sunrise, or he’ll finish what was started on the roof. Howard says he’ll find her, and Victor asks John for a word. He says he’d like John to find the baby, and John says, he just told Howard to find her. Victor says, Howard could be stalling, and he wants to hedge his bets. He’s seen the Dorie spirit in action. He once saw John’s son build a raft out of a broken down truck just to get back to June. He understands John has a desire to recalibrate things here. John says, people are  getting hurt who don’t need to be, and Victor says, the tower is bigger than either one of them. It’s the way he’ll be remembered; his legacy. John says, maybe it will be Victor’s legacy, or maybe his downfall, and Victor asks, how so? and John says, he knows what it’s like to do the right thing for the wrong reason. It doesn’t end well. Victor says he’s willing to listen, but he wants to see if John can deliver where Howard didn’t.

John grills Mo’s nanny, June, Grace, Wen, and Wes separately, and they all say they don’t know where Mo is. Wen asks if John really thinks he could keep a baby secret. John says, Mo was taken shortly after Wes came, but Wes says he doesn’t know anything. Grace asks why she’d take Mo, and John says, she doesn’t want Mo to grow up there. June asks what this is really about, and he says, making sure the baby is safe, but she says, that’s something that will never happen here. He asks if she knows something. Does she know where Mo is? June says, they both want the same things, but the only way to get them is to take out Victor. He asks what she did with Mo, and she says, Morgan won’t make a move as long as the baby is here. Victor knows that. If he loses her, he loses his leverage. John asks if she’s sneaking the baby out. Victor is right; the resistance is real, and she’s part of it. She says, the less he knows, the better, and John says, talk to him; maybe he can help. She says, if he really wants to help, keep Howard distracted; she’ll do the rest. John says, Howard’s not part of this? and June says, she didn’t plant the walkie. He asks if she’d tell him if she had, and she says she has to go. As she leaves, he sees her wet boot prints.

John reaches toward an artifact on Howard’s desk, but Howard says, don’t touch. John says, Howard has quite a collection, and Howard says he has no time for this; he has to find the baby. John says, so does he. Victor asked him to look too. Howard says, Victor didn’t mention it, and John says he doesn’t blame Victor after the walkie was found in Howard’s room. Howard says, it’s not his. Whoever put it there is getting what they want. John says he believes Howard, but has to question him like everyone else. Howard asks if John would like a drink, but John says he doesn’t touch the stuff anymore. Howard says, suit himself. What does he want to know? John says, from what he heard on the roof, there’s a great deal he doesn’t know about Howard. Howard says, like what? and John says, for starters, Howard never struck him as a family man. Howard asks, why not? and John says, let’s call it a general lack of compassion and restraint. Howard says, this is coming from a man who abandoned his own son, but John says, they’re not talking about him. Victor mentioned that Howard had a wife and son; where are they? Did they get split up after the bomb? Howard says, his wife left him before the world did what it did the first time, and took his son with her. John asks, why? and Howard says, the Travis letter. William Barrett Travis, on second day of the siege of the Alamo, wrote a letter asking for reinforcements, signed, victory or death. John asks what that has to do with it, and Howard says, it’s one of the most famous documents in the history of Texas. He discovered an addendum that made him the toast of the historical community. He gave lectures all over the world, spending months away. John says, sounds like quite an achievement, but Howard says, he’d forged it. Now the same papers that praised him were smearing his name. He came home one day, and his wife was at the door, and her bags were packed. John says, all over the letter, and Howard tells him, she said he was more concerned with making history than with making a life for her and their son. He has made history in this place. His wife and boy are out there, and if they find the tower, that history will be their life. What John calls lack compassion and restraint, he calls building a legacy. There’s a knock at the door, and a ranger says, they’ve covered a five-mile radius, and combed the place. Howard says, comb it again, and asks John if they’re done. John says, those people Howard has thrown off roof, how do they fit in his legacy? Howard says he’s not proud of everything he’s done, but if it all leads to his family finding this place, it will be worth it. John says, and if they don’t? but Howard says he doesn’t like to think about that. That will mean everything he’s done has been for nothing.

In the basement, June stabs zombies standing between her and an exit through a tunnel (it looks like a pipeline). John comes down, and she asks how he knew she was there. He says, her boots were muddy, and he knows it’s muddy there when it rains. He hears Mo crying, and looks in a bin, finding her. He asks why June is hiding her, and she asks if it matters. He sees some pseudo armor, and asks what it is. She tells him, protection, and he asks if she thinks it will protect her out there. She says, it’s worked before, and he asks if she thinks she can do the same thing as the wrestler lady. She says she hopes she doesn’t have to, but if that’s what it takes… He says, it’s not safe, but she says, about a half mile out, Morgan is ready to take Mo as soon as she’s out. Water suddenly gushes in, pushing June and John back, along with the railing holding the zombies back. The zombies pour in with it. June gets trapped by the guardrail, and John shoves them back. He takes out his gun, but it’s knocked out of his hand. He frees her, and they hold the rail between them and the zombies. He takes Mo out, and says, they need to get to the elevator. She asks what he’s talking about,  and he says, he can’t let her leave. She has to help him.

John tells her, they have to get moving before more wash in. He thinks he can get to his gun, but June says she thought he came to help her. He says he came to help Mo, and he starts to sing to the baby. June asks, what’s that? and he says, a song he used to sing to John. He puts Mo back in the bin, and says he needs to do something he couldn’t do for his son, and she says, she gets it. She’s lost a child. She needs to give Mo the best chance she can get. He says, she has that with Victor, and they need to get her upstairs before Howard finds them. She asks if he’s been drinking, and he wonders why she’d say something like that. She says, he’s not making sense. Victor won’t listen to him. He says he has to do this. He’s the one who set everything in motion. He planted the walkie. He knew it was the only way he could get Victor to listen to him over Howard. She says, he’s doing the same thing again. It’s like how he planted the purse to make sure Teddy went to jail. It destroyed him. Don’t make the same mistake again. He says, the last time he did the wrong thing for the right reasons, he abandoned his son. He won’t do that to Mo. What happened to Charlie won’t happen to her. He’ll make the place for her that he should have made for his boy. Things can change. She says, not while Victor’s in charge. He knows she’s right. He says he’s going for his gun, and she tells him to guard Mo with his life. He asks what she’s going to do, and she says, get through them the way Mickey did. She yells, go! and John says, they’re not going make it, but June tells him to go before more come. If he wants to help Mo, this is how. He runs in, and fishes for his gun in the water. He finds it, and shoots several zombies, but only has one bullet left. He and June block themselves back in, and June says she had a way out. He says, she still does. Whoever was going to help her escape, call them. She says, why? and he says, they don’t want to leave. Mo will die outside. She says, not if they’re careful, but he says, it didn’t matter to Charlie or him. He shows her radiation burns on this stomach and chest, and says he doesn’t have much time. She gets on a wall phone, and tells Grace that she needs some help.

June asks why John didn’t tell her sooner, and he says, it wouldn’t have made any difference. She asks how it happened, and he says, when he was bringing Charlie back. He got exposed to the same thing she did. He was careful and quick, and it still got to him. Like it or not, this is the only place Mo is safe. He doesn’t have much time… She says, he doesn’t know that, and he says he thought John Jr. was his legacy; he can’t lose another child. He can’t have that be the last thing he does. June and Grace can keep her safe and control Victor. There’s gunfire, and the zombies drop. Victor is there with Howard and a couple of rangers, and Howard says he caught Grace in the elevator. He asked why she was on her way down, but she wouldn’t say. They’ve identified the resistance, and it’s exactly who they thought it was. John says, it’s not what it looks like, and Howard says, he’s sure. Howard hears Mo, and laughs. He takes away the railing, and moves June out of the way, taking Mo out of the bin. He says he told Victor that he’d find her, but Victor says, he didn’t find her; John did. This is what I like to call a Haman backfire, which can be found in the Book of Esther. Victor takes Mo, and Howard follows him out.  

On the roof, Victor says, what they’re building is a civilization. No civilization can stand without a unified people. Howard says he’s been with Howard since the beginning, and John says he believes in this place. He believes it’s the best way for the child to survive. Howard says, John is lying; he was trying to help June escape. Victor tells John to show him that he believes in the tower; push Howard over the edge. Howard says, they had a deal, and Victor tells Howard, he said he’d spare him if he found the baby, and he didn’t. Any faith he’s had in Howard eroded since finding the walkie. Howard insists it’s not his, and John says, Howard is right. He doesn’t deserve this. John admits to planting the walkie, and Howard tells Victor you see? Victor says, wait. John framed Howard in order to gain audience with him? He laughs his Victor laugh, and says, wow. He underestimated John. You don’t do something like that unless you’re invested. He still needs John to do that other thing he asked him to do. John says he won’t, but Victor says, he will, or Victor will bring June or Grace up here. John tells Howard, he’s sorry, but Howard did the same to others for less.

Bye Howard.

Victor tells John that he woudn’t worry too much about Howard’s family. They’ll never find this place; they’re dead. His scouts found out months ago. John says, and Victor said nothing? Why? Victor says, that’s what drove Howard to help build this place. Everyone needs something to drive them. Howard’s apartment is all John’s now; consider it a signing bonus. What John said, you’re only as good as your partner… Here’s to a great partnership.

In Howard’s apartment, John throws up, then washes his face. He looks at the framed letter, and a framed photo of Howard and his family. He looks at bottle of bourbon, and pours a glass. He drinks it, sighs, and pours another. He sees his reflection in the photo, and puts the photo face down. He drinks some more, when Victor comes in with Mo. Victor says he thought John was off the sauce, and John says he was. Victor says, far be it from him to judge. Pour one for him. He puts Mo in a crib, and John pours him a drink. Victor says, to our future, and they drink. Victor tells him, feel free to junk this stuff. Howard certainly has no use for it anymore. He puts on the turntable, and classical music plays. He turns the volume up, and John asks, why so loud? Victor says, so they’re not overheard. He doesn’t want what happened today to ever happen again. Things need to change. John asks if Victor is ready to listen to his ideas, and Victor says he has ideas of his own. He knows Grace was in on what happened, as was June. He’s remanding Mo to his sole custody permanently. John asks how that’s going to work, and Victor says, she’ll be raised in the penthouse by him with no outside interference. John says he can’t keep Mo away from her mother, but Victor says, her mother is dead. Grace is a stand-in. John asks how he fits in, and Victor tells him, do whatever he needs to in order to ensure no one takes the baby. John says, that baby is never going give Victor what he wants, and Victor says, what is that? John says, to love him, to look up to him. And the the more he wants it, the more he fights for it, the more he’ll end up driving her away. Victor reminds John of what happened with his own son, and John asks why Victor thinks he’s trying to get through to him. If Victor wants Mo to love him, let John help him change how he does things here. Victor says, when he wants John’s counsel, he’ll ask for it, and John says, Victor was never going to listen, was he? Victor says, like he told John before, everyone needs something to drive them. What John did today will echo into the future. It will outlive him, and be his legacy. Victor turns, and John cracks him across the back of the head with the butt of his gun. He says, no it won’t. This place isn’t his legacy; she is. He radios Morgan, and asks if Morgan is still close by. Morgan says he’s just beyond the wall; why? John tells him to stay where he is, and picks up Mo. He says he’s bringing her to Morgan.  

John is dressed in various armor Howard had on display, and June says she can take Mo, but he says he wants to do this. Wen asks if they should gut John up, but John says, they don’t have time, and it’s not safe for Mo. Wen says, John has brass cojones, but John says, it’s not about him. Grace tells Mo, be brave, and John puts her under his breastplate. Grace says, don’t stop until he gets to Morgan, and John says, there are a lot of things he got wrong in life; this won’t be one. He tells June, it’s never too late, and thanks her for helping him remember that. She kisses his cheek, and Grace tells him, wait. She shows him a recorder, and says, Mo likes when she sings to her; it sooths her. John says, his son was the same way.

Wes rouses Victor, who sits up, and says, where is he? Where is the baby? Wes hands him a drink to take the edge off, and Victor takes a sip. Wes says, the rangers are combing the tower; they’ll find her. Victor says, the tunnel is flooded; there’s no other way out. Wes notices that the armor is gone, and says, there is one.

John barrels through the zombies, as a tape of him and Grace singing a duet of Sonny Boy plays. We see zombie Howard struggling along the ground. Poor Howard. Still groveling, even in zombieland. John just keeps walking.

Wes looks through binoculars, and spies John. He calls Victor over and asks what Victor wants to do. Victor says he thought he found a new partner. He wanted to make this place better, and John disappointed him. That’s what people do. Wes asks if he’s still looking for a new partner, and Victor says, there’s an old antenna in storage. Bring it to him,

John walks as Sonny Boy plays. Morgan waits.

Rangers run through the tower. Grace cries, and the rangers round up her, June, and Wen.

John gets through to Morgan, who says, Mr. Dorie. He takes Mo, and says, they need to move, but John says, not yet. Morgan asks, why not? and John shows Morgan that he’s been bitten. He says he can buy Morgan some time, and Morgan says he’s sorry. John says, take care of her, and walks into the crowd of zombies, who pull at him. Mercifully, we don’t have to watch his end.

Victor asks, is it ready? and Wes says, it’s done. Victor asks for a walkie, and radios Morgan, saying, You may have won the battle today, but the war is just beginning. He has people Morgan cares about – June and Grace – and if Morgan takes a step into this place, Victor will kill them. Morgan looks back for a millisecond, then keeps walking. Victor says, as for the rest of you, you know who you are. The offer to join him still stands. He needs good people to help secure the future of this place. If you’re listening, you know where to find me.  

The song continues.

Next time, Morgan knows the tower is unguarded until dawn; Dwight says, they’re outgunned; Alicia has a plan, and asks Morgan to trust her; and the tunnel caves in.  

❗️ I’m so not thrilled about the depressing turn this show has taken. Where is the fun villain with the twinkle in his eye? When did he get replaced by this lunatic throwing people off the roof? And a villain like that is fine, but Victor did a 180. Why? <stamps foot> I want to know.

General Hospital

At The Savoy, Frank says, it’s almost time, and Sonny says, Frank knows what to do when he gets here. Sonny looks around, and Nina says, looking for someone?

N’neka asks if Austin and Maxie would like anything else, but Maxie says, they’re okay. N’neka leaves the check, and tells them to enjoy the rest of their night. Austin says, they don’t have to be in a rush, and Maxie says, she wishes, but she needs to relieve her mom and Mac of babysitting duty. He asks if she wants to make a plan for tomorrow night, and she says she’s counting on it. They both reach for the check, and Maxie says she was going to treat him, but he says, his treat. She says, she did order that fancy top-shelf drink, and he says he’s a doctor, remember? He can afford to buy her a drink.

On the phone with her boys, Elizabeth says she misses them too, and wishes she could be with them. Things are just difficult right now, but remember, it’s only temporary until they figure out what’s going on at home. There’s a knock at the door, and she says, it’s room service. She loves them, and will talk to them soon. She opens the door to Finn, who hands her a bouquet of flowers.

At the hospital, Michael sees Britt, and says Willow has been waiting for an update on Harmony, but Britt says she’s still in surgery. She’ll make sure Dr. Ashford finds them as soon as she has an update. He says, that’s not good enough.

Sam and Alexis come out of the elevator, and Alexis says, the cafeteria really needs to improve their selection. Sam says, maybe this isn’t a good idea right now. Maybe they should go home. Alexis needs to rest. Alexis says she needs to check on Harmony, and Sam says, Harmony tried to kill her. Alexis says, she and Harmony have unfinished business, and she intends to finish it.

Willow says, her mother being out in the road makes no sense, and asks if Carly knows what happened. Carly says, Gladys told her Sasha’s the one who hit Harmony, and Willow tells her, Sasha said her mom came out of nowhere and ran in front of her car, but why? Why was she there in the first place? That area is so remote. Carly said, she and Alexis were with her mom before the accident at Razzmatazz Point. Carly says, they were, and she and Willow sit. Carly says, this is going to be hard to hear, and even harder to understand. Willow is going to have to prepare herself. Willow asks, what happened? Why was her mother even there?  

Felicia holds Bailey, and asks if she’s having trouble sleeping. Mac tells Bailey that he has news for her; sleep doesn’t come any easier when you get older. Felicia tells her, don’t listen to grumpy grandpa. Georgie and James are sleeping just fine. He says, for now, and Felicia fusses over Bailey. She asks if Mac remembers Maxie and Georgie. Does he remember those days? He says, like it was yesterday, and she says, those were wonderful days, weren’t they? He says he wishes he could go back in time and relive those days, and she says, her too. If only that was possible.

Maxie says she’s sorry if she offended Austin, but he says he’s sorry. He thinks maybe the wrong words just came out of his mouth. She bought dinner, so he thought he could pick up the nightcap. Balance is important in a relationship. Spinelli comes in, and goes up to a woman, saying, greetings and felicitations, fair lady. Might he trouble her for a moment of her time? She walks away, and Austin says, ooh. Maxie says, poor Spinelli. He’s trying to reenter the dating pool. Austin says, he just dove in head first, and she says, he and Ellie were such a good match. Now it looks like maybe he’s trying to hard. Austin asks, what’s he wearing? (a suit) and she says, Spinelli has such a unique sense of style, and now it’s like he’s trying to be somebody he’s not. Austin says he could talk to Spinelli, and Maxie says, that’s so sweet. She knows Spinelli is missing Jason. She calls Spinelli over, and he says, it’s a delight to see her as always. Dr. Gatlin-Holt. Austin tells Spinelli to call him Austin, and says, it’s good to see him. Maxie says, this is the second night she’s seen him here. Austin asks if he likes The Savoy, and Spinelli says, it’s the perfect aesthetic for his needs. Maxie says, there’s other places he can meet people, and Austin says, it doesn’t have to be a bar or restaurant. It can be a group with common interests; people who share similar interests. Spinelli says he knows what common interests are, and says he appreciates their counsel, but assures them it’s unnecessary. He’s managing perfectly fine. Maxie says he doesn’t have to lie. They saw that woman turn him down.

Nina says, fancy meeting Sonny here. What brings him to The Savoy, business or pleasure? He says, actually, he’s just taking in the sights, and they’re incredibly beautiful. He nods to Frank, who goes off with another guy, and he tells Nina that she looks beautiful. She thanks him, and says she’s meeting Britt and Obrecht there for a girls night out. He asks where her cowboy boots are, and she says she thinks they only work in Nixon Falls, although they’re a lot more comfortable than the heels she’s wearing. He says, things were a lot more comfortable in Nixon Falls, right? Especially after they exposed Elijah Crowe. She says, it sounds like he misses the place, and he says, sometimes he thinks about what it would be like to go back there, especially after a hard day. She says, a hard day like today?

Michael tells Britt that he’s sorry. Willow is a wreck. He saw his mom briefly in the ER, but couldn’t say anything to her. Then he had to explain to his son why he and Willow won’t be there to tuck him in tonight. Wiley keeps asking why, but he can’t tell him why. He can’t explain what’s going on with Wiley’s grandmothers. She says, and helplessness isn’t a trait he’s comfortable with, and he says, still, he shouldn’t have lashed out like that. She says, it’s a lot of pressure waiting for answers, and another doctor comes out. He says, he and Dr. Ashford need to consult with her, and Britt excuses herself.

Sam wonders if Harmony is seeking some sort of absolution, but Alexis says, if she is, Harmony’s not getting it from her. She won’t let Harmony deflect either. She wants Harmony to understand the full extent of her destruction. Sam wonders if Alexis wants closure, but Alexis says, it’s something she’ll never get if Harmony doesn’t survive.

Britt tells Michael that they have to find Willow now, and he says, she’s in the chapel. They dash to the elevator, and Alexis asks if there’s an update on Harmony. Is she out of surgery? Britt says, Miss Miller’s family will be notified first, and let her know. She and Michael get in the elevator, and Sam goes over to the other doctor. She says she’s Harmony’s niece and this – indicating Alexis – is her sister. Is she out of surgery? He says, she is, and Sam says, thank goodness. Would he happen to know what room she’s in?

Carly says, Harmony attacked her and Alexis, and Willow asks if Carly is okay. Carly says, she and Alexis are both fine, and Willow asks why Harmony attacked her. Carly says, she was in Alexis’s house. Harmony was there, they got into a fight, and Harmony stuck her with a syringe. Willow says, her mother drugged Carly? What were they fighting about? Carly says she discovered a secret Harmony wanted to keep, and Willow asks, what would be so bad that her mom would attack Carly? Carly says she knows Willow has a lot of questions, starting with how Harmony ended up at Razzle Dazzle Point. She drove Carly there in her SUV, but Carly doesn’t know what happened since she was unconscious. When she woke up, she heard Harmony and Alexis arguing, and when she climbed out of the truck, Harmony was about to attack Alexis. Willow says she doesn’t understand, and Carly says she was able to stop Harmony, but when Harmony heard Alexis call 9-1-1, she took off for the woods. She must have found the road, and that’s where she jumped in front of Sasha’s car. Willow asks why her mom attacked Carly in the first place. What secret was she trying to keep? Whatever it is, she promises she can handle it. Britt walks in with Michael, and Michael says, there’s an update on Willow’s mom. Carly says, this can wait; she’ll give them some privacy. Carly leaves, and Willow asks, how is she? Britt says, Harmony made it through surgery. She did, however, suffer several substantial injuries. She’s been admitted to the ICU. Willow asks, what’s wrong with her? and Britt says, internal bleeding, as well as damage to several organs. The surgical team did all they could, but Willow’s mom became hypertensive, and they had to stop operating. For now, they’ll continue to stabilize her, while evaluating the extent of her injuries. Michael asks if she’ll need more surgery, and Britt says, that’s to be determined. Willow asks if she can see Harmony, and Britt says, she’s unconscious, but she’s allowed to have visitors. Willow thanks her, and Britt leaves. Willow says, all this time in nursing school, and her mind is blank. What does this mean? He says, it’s still touch-and-go, and she says, so now it’s up to her mom to survive, and he holds her.

Sam and Alexis look in on Harmony, and Alexis says, this seems wrong. What if Harmony’s not even awake? Sam says, then they stay until she opens her eyes. This could be Alexis’s last chance to get closure. It’s up to her. Does she want it or not?

Spinelli sips a drink, and Maxie says, it was that woman’s loss, not his. Austin tells him, it happens to everybody; don’t even think about it. Spinelli says, like the Quartermaines don’t think about him trying to wrangle a share of their company? Maxie says, Spinelli… and Spinelli mumbles an apology. Austin says, it’s getting nice out. He was thinking about going out on the lake kayaking. Maybe Spinelli would like to join him. Spinelli says, his schedule is rather full these days, and Maxie says, kayaking sounds like fun. Is he sure he can’t go? Spinelli says, he’s sure he can move some things around, and tells Austin to let him know when he’s going. Maxie says, it’s settled. Now she and Austin have to go. They get up, and Austin says, if Spinelli gets the chance to talk to another woman, don’t overthink it; just be himself. Maxie says, yeah, don’t overthink it, and they head for the exit. Spinelli looks pained.

Nina asks if Sonny wants to talk about his hard day, and he flashes back to his argument with Michael, and saying, if Michael wants his forgiveness, he’ll have to beg. Michael tells him, don’t hold his breath. Sonny tells Nina, it’s nothing he can’t handle, and she says she’s sure he can… Obrecht grabs her arm, and says, she reserved a table. She drags Nina away, and Frank comes back. Sonny asks if everything is good, and Frank says it is. Sonny asks Frank to wait for him outside, and Frank leaves. Spinelli approaches Sonny, and says, he just wanted to pay his respects. Sonny asks what he can do for Spinelli, and Spinelli says, there’s far too many unsavory characters here tonight, and watches as Austin and Maxie go up the stairs to the outside.  

Finn tells Elizabeth that he and Violet spent the afternoon at the nail salon. He actually got a nice lavender high-gloss, but it didn’t go with his shoes. She laughs, and he says, Violet is over the moon. Between her Uncle Chase staying with her and her new manicure, she barely acknowledged his departure. She says, he makes it sound like Chase moved in, and he says, temporarily. Finn took the room next to hers. She says, the whole point of her staying here is so she’d feel safe, and be away from whoever’s stalking her. She doesn’t want to be upending his life. She’ll be fine. He says, she’s always brave for everyone else. She can admit she needs someone too. That’s why he’s here, and because he owes her. She asks, for what? and he says, for a start, when he thought he killed Peter August, and was working himself into the ground to find a cure for Chase. He wasn’t the easiest person to be around through all that. She showed him nothing but kindness, and was supportive. It’s the least he can do to thank her. She says, he doesn’t owe her anything, and he says, one of the best parts of their relationship… Is it okay if he calls it a relationship? She says she’ll allow it, and he says, just this once? They trust each other, and they’re honest with each other, and they’re there for each other. She agrees, and he asks, how is she really? She says she’s totally freaked out. She just wants to go home with her boys like this nightmare never happened. He says he thinks he might be able to help with the last part.

Willow wonders how this happened. How did her mom end up like this? Michael says, things seem grim right now, but she can’t lose faith. Her mom is tough; she’ll make it through this. Willow says she thought so too, but after what Carly just told her… He asks what his mom told her, and she says, she’s sorry. She knows she should tell him, but she can’t think about it right now. He tells her, that’s okay; he’ll get the story from his mom. All Willow has to do is focus on how much her mother loves her, and will do everything in her power to stay with Willow. She says she prays he’s right, and lights the one conveniently unlit candle. She says she’s ready to see her mother.

Spinelli asks if he can purchase a cocktail for Sonny, or whatever he prefers beverage-wise. He takes out his credit card, and Sonny says, platinum, huh? What did he do, win the lottery? Spinelli says, he’s working on a new business venture, and Sonny says, what’s that? Spinelli says, it’s still in the planning stages, but when he’s ready to launch, Sonny will be the first to know. Sonny says, it sounds like Spinelli’s got a lot going on in his life; a new business venture, maybe a new woman.

Nina asks Obrecht, what the hell was that? She completely ignored Sonny. Obrecht says, the man threatened mein Scott, and Nina says, Scotty provoked him. Obrecht says, so Scotty was asking for it? but Nina says, Obrecht knows about Scotty and Sonny’s history, and their tempers. Sonny won’t hurt Scotty again as long as Obrecht’s boyfriend doesn’t go around looking for trouble. Obrecht says she doesn’t care who seeks out whom. If something happens to Scotty, Sonny is going to feel her wrath. Nina says, Obrecht is going to take on Sonny? That’s a good one. Obrecht says, a gunfight will be a pleasant memory compared to her vengeance, and Nina says, let it go. Britt approaches, and Obrecht says she can’t believe Nina would side with that man against her own family. Nina says she’s not siding with anyone; don’t force her to. Britt asks if the two of them are actually fighting over guys.  

Felicia asks Mac, if there was a way to relive those days, what does he think it would look like? He says he’s not following, and she says, he never had a child of his own. He says, it never mattered to him that Georgie, Maxie, and Robin weren’t his own biological children. He loved and raised them as if they were. She says, he was a father to them in every way that counted. She was, and still is, grateful for that, but surely he would have wished for a child of his own; one they raised together. He says, that would have been nice and don’t call me Shirley, and she asks if he still feels that way. He asks what they’re talking about.

Alexis goes into Harmony’s room, where she’s hooked up to a bunch of machines, and says, this is ridiculous. How is she supposed to talk to Harmony when she’s like this? She wants to tell Harmony how absolutely furious she is with her; furious doesn’t even begin to cover it. She never asked for Harmony’s friendship, but Harmony came along when she needed it most, and she valued their friendship. She stood up for Harmony when everyone told Alexis to dump her. She sits next to the bed, and says, now she learns Harmony’s friendship was just a way to clear her conscience about killing Neil. She thought she glimpsed a good person in Harmony. Was any of it even real? Maybe if Harmony could have had a different life; she could have had a relationship with Willow based on honesty. Willow says, Alexis? and Alexis turns around to see Willow and Michael at the door.

Spinelli asks Sonny, who, pray tell, is this new woman? and Sonny says, maybe not new, but rediscovered. He saw the way Spinelli looked at Maxie when she walked out with her boyfriend. Spinelli says, he’ll always love Maxie – she’s the mother of his child – but not romantically. He just wishes for her happiness, and a better man than that would-be Quartermaine. Sonny says, man to man, if there’s a woman Spinelli cares about, that he’s after, whether it’s Maxie or not, he has to follow his heart and tell them he cares, what they mean to him, before it’s too late. Spinelli thanks Sonny for his for hard won wisdom, which of course (🍷) he knows Sonny goes by.

Britt says, it’s just a punch in the gut, how close Willow is to losing her mother. Especially since it hasn’t been that long since she and Obrecht reconnected. Then she almost killed Obrecht with a speargun. Obrecht says, but Britt didn’t. Here she is, safe and sound. Britt says she knows she’s supposed to keep a professional distance, but she’s reminded none of them have as much time as they think. Nina says she regrets the missed opportunity to be close to her daughter; they’re very lucky. Life is really short, and she’s not going to waste time being mad at the people she loves. Obrecht says, neither will she.

Felicia asks if Mac has ever seen such an angel, and he says he’s looking at one. She kisses him, and says, about reliving the past… and he says, is that what they were talking about? She says, weren’t they? Maxie and Austin come in, and Felicia asks how they’re doing. Maxie says, other than tripping at the MetroCourt – she shows them a sprained finger – they had a great time. They went to a wine tasting. Mac says, other than the finger, sounds like fun, and Austin says, it was pretty good. Maxie says, the way he downed that foie gras, she thinks it was more than pretty good. Austin says, in his life so far, his tastes have run to the can of beans and hot dog over an open fire kind of thing. It turns out goose liver is delicious. Mac says, Maxie has always had expensive taste, and Felicia says, there’s nothing wrong with wanting the finer things in life. Mac tells them, all he’s saying is, it’s a good thing Maxie’s company went public, so now she can pay for the finer things. Maxie says, it’s better than when she ran up his credit card in high school, and Mac says, laugh now. Wait until it’s her turn. It may seem like years from now, but blink, and her own kids are going to be running up their own extracurricular shopping. She says she’ll be thinking of him when that day comes, so be kind.

Elizabeth says, so now that the dinner portion of their evening is over, how is Finn going to make her forget she’s being stalked by a dangerous weirdo? He says, funny she should ask, holding up a deck of cards. She says, they’re playing cards? and he says, not just any cards; this is slapjack. She’s never played slapjack? She says, no, and he says, they each get a pile of cards, and take turns flipping them over. If one of them gets a Jack, they slap. Whoever slaps it first, gets the take. Any questions? She says, no questions, doctor, and he says, ladies first. Her first card is a Jack, and she slaps it first. He says, you’re kidding me, and she asks, who taught him how to play? Violet? He says, his daughter loves a semi-violent card game. His turn. They play, and she asks how he knew this was exactly what she needed. People in her house, hearing voices… He says, what voices? Did someone try to contact her?

Alexis tells Willow, she’s so sorry about Harmony, and jets. Michael asks if Willow wants some privacy, and she asks if he minds. He says, he’ll be outside the room if she needs him. Willow says, oh mom, what have you done?

In the hallway, Sam asks if Alexis got what she needed, and Alexis says, yes and no. Carly comes in and hugs Michael, who says he’s sorry they keep missing each other. Carly says, he’s been with Willow, which is where he needs to be, and he says, Carly had a tough night too. She says, yes, but Willow is more important. Michael says, she’s in with Harmony now, so Carly can tell him. What were she and Alexis doing in the ER, and what does it have to do with Harmony? Alexis says she just wants to go home, and Sam asks if she’s sure. Alexis says, Carly can handle things from here, and Carly thanks her for everything she did tonight. Alexis says, back at her, and leaves with Sam. Michael says, care to explain? and Carly says, Harmony drugged her and tried to kill Alexis. Michael says, why? and she says, Willow.

Willow asks Harmony what she’s supposed to think? She knew Harmony was capable of doing harm, of doing wrong, but she thought Harmony was misguided. She never thought Harmony was a murderer. There’s got to be more to the story. Her rehabilitation wasn’t an act… unless it was, and Willow didn’t want to see it. Because despite everything Harmony has done to her, and others, Harmony is still her mom. She’s never stopped loving her, even when it hurt. She puts her hand on Harmony’s, and says, so please wake up. She still loves Harmony. Isn’t that worth living for?

Nina says she’s going to the ladies room, and Britt says she’ll order Nina another drink. Nina says, she’ll just take a Ride Share home, and leaves. Britt says she’s glad Obrecht and Nina kissed and made up, and Obrecht says, Nina is as good to her as Britt is. She wishes them both happy and full lives. She knows Britt’s diagnosis weighs on her – how could it not? – but she still has much to look forward to. Britt says she’s trying. It’s just been a rough couple of days. Obrecht says, aside from this woman having a terrible accident, what else happened? Britt says, for one thing, she was stood up by the stupid date that the stupid matchmaking service set her up with, and Obrecht says, that schwein. How dare he reject her beautiful and intelligent daughter? Britt says, it was the guy with the cat, and Obrecht says she told Britt not to date the cat man. If she wants an attentive person, find someone with a ferret. Britt laughs, and says, okay. Here’s the thing. Why waste time she doesn’t have on a man? Obrecht says, is it that Britt doesn’t want any man, or she just wants the one she lost? Britt says, she didn’t lose him, but Obrecht says, she did. Jason should have chosen her. If he had, all their lives would be different. What is indisputable is that he saved Britt’s life, and helped Britt save hers. Britt is different; stronger, yet more vulnerable. It’s unfair that what was left between them went unfinished, and Britt has every right to grieve, but the greater waste would be to deny herself happiness in the present, longing for a man who’s dead, and a love that is gone. Britt says, Jason made a strong impression, and Obrecht says, that’s why she should broaden her horizons. Instead of a dangerous man who will rescue her in a hail of gunfire, find someone who will get her out of the hospital to do fun things. A shoulder to cry on, someone to share a laugh with. If Britt won’t do it for herself, do it for her. Britt says, Obrecht is sure playing hardball, and Obrecht says, doesn’t she always? Britt says, okay. She’ll carry on with her manhunting. Obrecht says, good. She has to go. Scotty awaits, and has promised an eventful night. Britt tells her, go; get out of here. Obrecht says she loves Britt, and to tell Nina auf Wiedersehen.  

Felicia asks if Mac doesn’t just love being a grandparent, and he says, other than being near her, it’s the best feeling in the world. She says, he’s such a charmer. She just loves spending time with those precious little ones, and he says, he’d spend all his  time with them if he could. She says, absolutely. She couldn’t ask for anything more. He says, she could.

Elizabeth tells Finn, no one contacted her; it was nothing. He asks what she meant about hearing voices, and she says, a patient called to remind her about getting him a blanket. He started by saying, don’t forget me. Finn says, like the intruder said to her, and she says, at first, it sounded like a completely different voice, almost otherworldly. But obviously, she misheard him; it was a long day. He asks if she’s sure Lucy didn’t get in her head, and she says, she’s not sleeping, she’s stressed. Between the Ouija and hearing Lucy talk about her beliefs, she doesn’t know what to think anymore, except that she’s completely losing it. He says, no. He can’t imagine anyone handling this as well as she has. These occurrences would have broken a weaker person. He knew shew as strong, but he’s in awe of her. She says she doesn’t feel strong, or awesome, but he says, it doesn’t matter. He’s going to keep telling her that she’s strong. He kisses her, and says, awesome, and kisses her again. He says he thinks she’s perfect, and they kiss some more.

Austin asks if the kids are asleep, and Maxie says, sleeping the sleep of the innocent. Austin says, as they should be. It sounds nice. He should get going. He thanks her for a lovely evening, and says, they should do it again sometime. She tells him, name the day, and he says, tomorrow. She tells him, they did say they’d do something tomorrow. Or did they? There was so much going on between that photographer and Spinelli. She thanks Austin for being so kind to Spinelli. He’s usually standoffish like that, but he’ll like Austin when he gets to know him. She’s worried Spinelli is lonely. He lost Jason and Ellie within a few months, and he’s trying to figure out what’s next for him. Austin says, Maxie, and she says, she really does want to see him tomorrow, but Georgie and James have a lot of activities. She really needs to bake, or go to Eckerd’s and throw herself at their mercy for four dozen cupcakes, which will probably bankrupt them… He says, if she doesn’t want to hang out tomorrow, she can just say so.

Nina asks where Obrecht is, and Britt says, she dumped them for Scotty. She told her to tell Nina, auf Wiedersehen. Nina says, who would guess that out of the three of them, Obrecht has the love interest? and Britt says, never would have thought. She has a busy day, so she’s going to call it a night. What about Nina? Nina says, she’s going to be sulking at Britt calling it a night. She’s going to finish her wine, and no matter how short their visit is, it’s always nice to see Britt. Britt says, back at her. Britt passes Spinelli’s table, and says, his drink is certainly colorful. He says, he was hoping it would lift his mood. Speaking of… She says, how is she doing since her date stood her up? She’s feeling wonderful, confident, no self-pity at all. He says, research shows, the majority of people who sign up have a good experience with matchmaking services, and she says, so she’s in the minority? He tells her, he saying she should keep on trying. Her Mr. Right is out there, and waiting for him is definitely worth the effort. Just don’t give up. She says he sounds like her mother, and he says, heavens forbid. She thanks him, saying, she needed it, and he asks if that means she’ll take his advice and give matchmaking a try again. She says she did it to pacify her mother; don’t push his luck. Enjoy his drink.

Sonny asks Nina, is this seat taken? Finishing the cliché, she says, it is now.

Michael says, so Carly saved Alexis’s life, and Carly says, Alexis saved hers too. She doesn’t know what would have happened if Alexis hadn’t shown up. She thinks Harmony was going to stage some sort of accident, so it looked like she drove off Rhoda Morgenstern Point. Michael asks what she was trying to cover up, and she says, a secret about Willow, but before he asks, she needs to tell Willow first. She’s just debating whether to tell Willow tonight; she’s got a helluva lot going on right now. Michael says, Carly doesn’t have to protect Willow. She’s strong and she deserves to know the secret her mother was willing to kill for. They look through the window at Willow and Harmony.

Willow says, if Harmony doesn’t come back, there are so many things they didn’t get to say. They have a lifetime of things left to say. Please give them that chance. Willow is begging her. Willow cries and Harmony opens her eyes.   

Tomorrow, Lucy says, it’s about to get hotter; Austin wonders if Maxie is looking for an excuse to push him away; Valentin says, he’ll do what has to be done; Willow asks Carly to just tell her; and Elizabeth yells for Finn.  

🏖 There was no Below Deck tonight due to an onslaught of Summer House episodes, which ended the season. Thank you, God. I’ve been watching this show peripherally on the embarrassment level of paying to see an archaic freak show. Maybe I just can’t believe it’s real. Actually, what I think I can’t believe is real is that these immature jerks display their behavior for the world to see. I don’t mind if the VP of my bank goes wild on the weekends in the Hamptons, behaving like they never left high school, but I don’t want to see it. I’m pretty sure my trust factor would plummet. Unfair? Maybe, but I’m being honest.

And please, I’m the last one to say guys can’t show emotion or everyone can’t let their freak flag fly, but between Kyle and Andrea, you could have floated an ark on the tears. Don’t get me started on the whining. I’m guessing Paige latched onto Craig so she can jump ship to Southern Charm. Hopefully, it doesn’t go horribly wrong and Craig gets absorbed into the Hamptons house. As for bedroom roulette, I lost track of who was hooking up with who. Or is it whom?

At least Andrea is single, and not inflicting his emotional wreckage on anyone (yet – another bullet Paige dodged), but Kyle… Amanda doesn’t seem stupid or insane, and her parents seem like they were a decent example of a couple. I just don’t get why she decided to hitch her star to this mess of a wagon. To each his own I suppose. She probably thinks she’s going to fix him. Never. Going. To. Happen.

The surprise highlight of the season was Ciara losing her sh*t at a dinner, when Danielle defended Lindsay for Austen-blocking her. Ciara felt like Lindsay had intentionally disrespected her, and went off Housewives level, throwing wine in Danielle’s face, and everything going everywhere. This is why these people shouldn’t have nice things.

There was a lot of whining, tears, and anger over a pre-nup between Kyle and Amanda, but as far as I know, it never happened. Robert wanted Danielle to move to Charleston, and I wondered if she’d do double Southern Charm duty. Even though he’s never been on the show, it looks like they have a few slots to fill. In the same-old category, Lindsay spent a lot of time getting opinions about her decisions until she found one that agreed with her own. Carl had broken up with McKenzie, and went back to meditation and working out.

To continue keeping tethered to their high school days, the group decided to have a prom. Kudos to the ladies for being able to fit in their old dresses at 50 40 32, but why? I remember my father calling me two years after I moved away from home, saying he found a roll of film (yes, we had no digital camera), and it had my senior prom pictures on it. The point is, I never even realized they were missing. Once I graduated, I wasn’t too interested in reliving the moments. But again, different strokes. While there were traditional prom factors, it was basically a barbecue in the backyard where some people dressed up and some didn’t. Kyle ended up having a baby cry, and in his interview, he said he bottled up his emotions, and it came out at the wrong time. He was right, but his delivery was wrong, and it was the story of his life. Cue the violins. I think Peter Pan is probably closer to the story of his life. Oh, and no surprise, everyone jumped in the pool with their prom clothes on. I did think it was cute that Craig faked Paige out, saying he had to go somewhere else, then showed up in his fancy prom duds.

The season finished with Carl – ordained online several weeks prior – marrying Kyle and Amanda at the house, which was at least a fitting venue. The biggest shocker for me was seeing jewelry designer under Luke’s name. I thought he was a lumberjack or buffalo hunter or something. Didn’t he tap maple trees?

The Reunion is next. I still can’t believe this trash is on TV. Even worse, I can’t believe I keep looking at it. Maybe I expect them to unzip their suits and newly minted high school graduates will come out.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Harmony works with a patient at Spring Ridge, when Alexis walks in. She asks how Ryan is enjoying his afternoon excursion, and Harmony says Ryan is in his room resting. This is Greg. She says, she knows Ryan’s presence there concerns Alexis, but Alexis says it does more than concern her; it alarms her and fills her with dread. Every time she walks in there, she has to brace herself that he’ll be in there. Harmony says, and when Alexis sees him, is there ever any change? Ryan’s been reduced to an invalid; he’s no threat to anyone. Alexis tells her, so says every teenager in a horror film before the guy with the chainsaw shows up. Harmony says she’s not responsible for Ryan being there. She didn’t ask to be assigned to him. Her job is to care for him, so she’s going to do that to the best of her ability, but don’t mistake that for liking him or defending him, because she doesn’t. Alexis says, it would be easier to believe Harmony if she didn’t know how susceptible Harmony was to a certain kind of monster. This, coming from Alexis, of all people.

Dante swings a baseball bat, and Sam says, strike three. He says he didn’t know she was counting balls as strikes. She says he missed by a mile, and he says, he did, but he was distracted a little bit. She says she wonders why, and he laughs.

Chloe checks Drew’s wounds, and says he’s lucky. His ribs are only bruised, not broken. He says, the guards must be slacking. At least they spared his pretty face this time. It worked. She says she had to turn him in for stealing a pen, and he says, which gave them a reason to trust her. She says, he’s a Navy SEAL, right? Didn’t they teach him how to lock pick? Why didn’t he escape? He says, and leave her there? No way. She says he’s lost the pen, and he has multiple bruises. What do they do now? He says, get the hell out of there.

Josslyn sees Spencer at the MetroCourt, and says, hello, Spencer. Or should she call him Victor? He says she can’t possibly be mistaking him for his late, unlamented great-uncle, and she says, no. She was mistaking him for someone who had maybe grown up a little bit, and achieved some decency. Her bad. He’s taller, but he hasn’t grown at all inside. He’s still just as spiteful and dishonest as ever. He asks how she really feels, and she says she really feels like punching him in the face, but it would just give him another excuse to feel sorry for himself. He asks what she’s talking about, and she says, poor, poor, pitiful Spencer, with his trust fund, and his mansion, and his boarding school in Europe. He doesn’t get along with daddy, so that justifies him buying and using people, right? Getting Trina to keep his secret, and telling her that his name is Victor, and for what? It’s all just going to blow up in his face. Does he know why? Because the truth always comes out. Always.

Sonny looks around the bench for his phone, when Jax comes by. Sonny asks what he wants, and Jax says he’s just trying to spare the people who care about them as much pain as possible, and that includes Phyllis and Nina. Sonny says, there’s not going to be any pain once Jax leaves town, and Jax says, Nina hasn’t talked to him yet? Sonny says he lost his phone, came to look for it, and it’s not there, and Jax says, so he still doesn’t know the truth. Sonny says Jax makes that sound like a threat. He doesn’t give a damn about Jax’s truth. He just wants to find Nina, so they can get on with their lives. Jax says, it’s a little late for that. Always has been.

Nina tells Peter, just go. Leave them in peace. The longer he’s there, the greater the chance he’ll be discovered. Peter says he intends to leave, and soon, but she and Phyllis won’t be. In fact, the two of them won’t be setting foot outside the Tan-O again. Nina tells Phyllis, don’t worry. It’s going to be okay. She knows Peter. He’s just a big talker, but he’s really just a typical insecure bully. He’s going to crumble like a paper cup when Valentin alerts the police. He says, nice try, but even if Valentin did pick up on her feeble attempt to warn him, he’ll be long gone before law enforcement shows up. She and Phyllis, on the other hand, will succumb to a different fate.

Sam says, she thought Dante was the one who had thousands and thousands of hours of experience with baseball. He tells her, he thinks he said tens of thousands, and she says she thinks that time was wasted, because he has a serious flaw in his swing. He says, so she’s the expert now. He holds out the bat, and asks why she doesn’t show him how it’s done, but she says she’s not giving her tips out. Besides, her team is going to the championship, as she predicted. Where’s his team going? Nowhere. Cuz you guys got beat. He says, just like he thought – girl talk – and holds out the bat again. She takes it, and he pulls her to him. She says, not so tight, and stands behind him with her arms around him. She says, shoulders back… He choked up. He says, no, he didn’t, and she laughs, putting her head on his chest.

Drew asks, how many guards Chloe has seen, total? and she says she hasn’t kept count. Ten altogether? At different shifts. He says, any guess on nationality? and she says, they seem to be from all over. He says that could actually work for them, and she asks, how? He says, they’re mercenaries. That means they’re in it for the money. They’ll do their jobs, but they’re not going to risk their lives to stop an escape. A guard bangs on the door, and says, time’s up. Drew says they need to get the keys, and she says he took that beating; what’s a little more pain? and he says, what? She tells him to pretend to be dying, and pushes him on to the cot, pressing on his wounds. He yells out, and she tells him, louder. She calls to the guard, saying, she thinks Drew punctured a lung. They need to get him to a doctor. The guard comes in, and Drew writhes in pain on the cot. The guard says Drew can die for all he cares, but she says she’s pretty sure Russel cares, and whoever Russel works for. They think this man is valuable, and if he dies, who does the guard think they’ll blame? Drew takes note of where the keys hang on the guard’s belt.

Spencer asks how much Josslyn knows. Or should he say, think she knows? She says, Trina told her that he got back to Port Charles long before his family knew, and how the night he met Trina at her graduation party, he told her that his name was Victor. He says, so Trina told her, and she says, he spent a couple of days playing games; chatting her up, and mysteriously refusing to meet her friends or let her take his photo. But then Trina came up to her and Cam at the MetroCourt pool (🍷) and they introduced her to their old friend, Spencer Cassadine. She could have busted him right then and there – like she should have – but he let her keep his secret. He says things are complicated with his father, and she says, how convenient. He says, excuse me? and she says she doesn’t excuse him, and she doesn’t feel sorry for him either. It’s a shame he has a rotten relationship with his father, but other people have it much worse. They don’t have the luxury of a bottomless bank account, or a grandmother, who would drop everything to rush by their side. Which reminds her, how could he do that to Laura? How could he be in Port Charles for weeks and never try to see her? What was so important? He says it’s none of her business, and she says, when they were kids, that was his tell. When he said something was none of their business, that meant he was lying, hiding, or doing something he wasn’t supposed to. Is that still how he operates? Is that why he needed Trina to keep his secret? He says, Trina was just being a friend, and she says, no. He was taking advantage of Trina’s compassion to play mind games with daddy. He flirted with Trina to get her to cooperate, without ever once mentioning he had a serious girlfriend. This is still his fundamental problem. He has no idea what the word friendship actually means.

Harmony says she’s not asking Alexis to forgive or forget her involvement with Shiloh and Dawn of Day. Alexis says, considering what he almost did to her daughters, it will never be forgiven or forgotten. Harmony says, and she went to jail for that. She paid her debt to society, just like Alexis is trying to do. She starts to put some books away, and Alexis follows. Alexis says, that’s true. She’s not in a position to throw stones, while she sits there as an inmate. And she admits Harmony was helpful giving Nikolas those notes from Ryan’s correspondence. Harmony says she understands Alexis wants to help her nephew. Is everything all right with her nephew? Is that what’s bothering her? Alexis says, that, and other things, and Harmony says she knows better than to ask what those other things are, so she’ll get back to work. Alexis says, she has this friend who’s about to make a terrible mistake.

Jax tells Sonny, he’s just trying to minimize the damage, and keep Nina from being harmed. Remember that when he gets his memory back. He’s called Mike, but they both know that’s not his name. Sonny flashes back to kissing his watch goodbye, and says, Mike is the only name he remembers. The only name that means anything to him. He and Nina let go of the past. All he cares about is their future together. Jax says, the funny thing about the past is, you can run from it, you can even hide for a while, but eventually the past is going to catch up with you. And guess what? Today’s your day, Mike.

Nina says, Peter’s issue is with her, not Phyllis. Let her go. Phyllis takes Nina’s hand, and says she’s not leaving her. No way. Peter says, the loyalty between them is quite touching. Does she have any rope in the back? Phyllis asks what he’s going to do with rope, and he says, what does she think? Go get it. And some duct tape. Uh-oh. Duct tape is never a good sign. He tells her, hurry. Look hard, and look fast. If she’s not back in three… no, let’s make it two minutes, Nina’s blood will be all over her hands. Nina tells Phyllis, it’s okay, and Phyllis starts to leave, but Peter says, oh. Before she goes, leave all the cell phones on the floor. She takes one out of her sleeve, and puts it down. She starts to go again, and he says, all the cell phones. She takes another out of her pocket and puts it on the floor. He tells her that she’s on the clock, and she heads for the back. He tells her, remember, he has her gun from behind the bar, so don’t even think of being a hero again. I’m thinking, she could have a Howitzer in the back for all he knows. He squats down in front of Nina, and says, I thought she’d never leave.

Spencer says he’s sorry he doesn’t meet Josslyn’s lofty standards, and she says, right. Because it’s too much to ask him not to use people. He says he had a plan for how he was going to return to life in Port Charles. Meeting Trina wasn’t part of that plan. Meeting her was a total surprise. He thought he was going to lay low in town for a while, stay under the radar, until he figured out how he was going to deal with his father. She says, then he met Trina, and started lying his head off? and he says, besides calling himself Victor, when did he lie to Trina? She says, he told Trina that he’d meet her friends on 4th of July, but he knew if he did that, she and Cam would recognize him. Of course (🍷) he didn’t show up. He says, oh, all that, and she says, yeah, all that. He left Trina twisting, talking about some guy she met who never showed up. He says, Trina wasn’t like anyone he’d met at boarding school. They hit it off almost instantly. She says, that’s the definition of using. He saw Trina liked him, and that’s how he got her to keep the secret. He asks if Trina said she liked him, and she says, really? That’s all he got from this conversation? Another prop for his gigantic ego? He asks if Trina said those specific words, that she’s into him, and she asks why he cares. He says because he likes her too. In perfect soap timing, Esme joins them, apologizing for being late. She sits down, and asks what she missed. Josslyn says, a lot.

Drew howls in pain some more, and Chloe tells the guard, whatever’s going on with him is way past her expertise. They have to get him to a doctor; he might not make it. He says he’ll go get help, but she says they have no time. She’s a nurse. She can recognize when someone’s dying. He knows how important Drew is. If Drew dies, they’ll kill him too. The guard goes over to Drew, who kicks him, jumps off the cot, and knocks him down with a roundhouse kick. Drew checks the guard, and says, he’s out. He gets the keys, and gives them to Chloe. She unlocks his cuffs, and they run out; Drew closing and locking the door behind them.

Dante takes some swings, and Sam tells him, much better. He says, thanks, coach, and she says there is one more thing she needs him to work on. He says, what’s that? and she says, his home run trot. He says she’s really the one who should be practicing that, since she has something to celebrate. She says she does? and he says, the end of her parole. She says, every time she thinks about it, it reminds her of why she’s on parole. Because she rid the world of Shiloh.

Alexis tells Harmony, she doesn’t need to get into the details, but suffice to say, she can relate to him. He’s been trying to do the right thing, but the road to hell is paved, etc., etc. Harmony asks if that’s how she ended up in prison, and Alexis says, that’s what she tells herself, but the truth is, her best intentions were fueled by alcohol. Harmony guesses she could say she’s addicted to men like Shiloh. It’s a very hard habit to admit, or break. Alexis says she knows. She’s been known to fall under the sway of an unworthy man or two… or ten. Harmony asks what advice she has for her well-meaning friend, and Alexis says, the same thing she failed to do – stay out of it.

Sonny says it sounds like Jax is the one who’s running away from something. Or does Jax expect him to believe he came all the way out there for Nina’s sake? Jax says he’ll admit, he’s made mistakes. He thought he was doing the right thing at the time, and drove away people he cares about. Sonny says he should learn from that, and Jax says Sonny sounds like Alexis. Sonny says, who? and Jax says, a friend. She says he’s too much of a fixer, that one person can’t save everyone. And if you try, sometimes you end up getting burned yourself. Sonny says Jax should take her advice and go home, and Jax says he would, but this isn’t just about Nina. Sonny says, then what is it about? and Jax says, you and me.

Peter says, Nina really thought she could just run away from home, forget all her troubles, all the damage she caused, and start a shiny new life with a man who wasn’t even hers to begin with. Think of it this way. Now she won’t have to face Carly, and explain why she kept Carly’s husband all to herself. He starts to laugh, and says, if she thinks about it, he’s freed her from a world of grief. And if she’s lucky, maybe there’s a little corner of hell where she and Nelle Benson can be reunited. Wouldn’t that be nice? She says, you sick, twisted, son of a bitch. You’re baby is so much better off without you in her life. He says he’s going to find his baby, but her… The phone alarm goes off, and he says, she’s running out of time. He guesses Phyllis didn’t turn out to be that good of a friend after all. He points his gun at Nina, and Phyllis runs out, saying, don’t shoot. He says she’s cutting it a bit close, and Phyllis says she forgot where the duct tape was. Peter tells Phyllis to tape Nina’s hands behind her back, and then tie her to the chair; then he’ll tie Phyllis. Nina asks how Peter is going to find his baby while he’s in prison. He should get out of there while he’s still free. She’s sure by now Valentin has alerted Anna, and he knows what that means. The WSB is on the way. He says he doesn’t think they’re going to like what they find when they get there.

Dante asks if Sam wants to hit something, and she says she’d love to. Any mention of Shiloh reminds her of his connection to Peter, and how they were conspiring to hand Drew over to Helena. He says, that’s ancient history, but she says, is it? What if Shiloh knew who Peter August used to arrange for Drew’s plane to go down? He says, even if he did, Shiloh’s dead, and she says, there is someone else. Someone who was very close to Shiloh who is still alive.

Harmony tells Alexis, while it’s her job to look after inmate’s health, she’s always thought it included emotional well-being. Alexis says she’s not dying for a drink, if that’s what Harmony is thinking, but Harmony says she thinks Alexis is lonely, and there’s no shame in that. An occasional visit from family and friends doesn’t always help. Sometimes it makes things worse. Like when her nephew came with his girlfriend. Alexis says, what about it? and Harmony says, as Alexis recalls, she had a bad feeling about Esme. Alexis says, and Harmony has such good instincts about people. Harmony says she deserved that, but she does know trouble when she sees it. Why was she so interested in Ryan? Alexis says she doesn’t know. Some people are fascinated by criminals. Harmony says, fascinated is one thing, but from what she observed, Esme seemed to be upsetting Ryan. How does Alexis explain that?

Esme says Josslyn should know, she and Spence have no secrets. Anything Josslyn can say to her boyfriend, Josslyn can say to her. Josslyn says, anything she has to tell Spencer, she’ll say to Spencer, and Spencer says, Trina told Josslyn that he was in town before he told anyone else, and used a fake name and everything. Esme says, everything? and Josslyn asks if there’s something else she should know. Spencer asks if it isn’t enough that he made Trina keep his secret? Does she think he’s proud of it? Esme says, poor Trina. She’s such a… What’s the word? Josslyn says, human being? and Esme says, that’s two words. An idealist. She’s always looking for the best in people. Spend a few years in boarding school, and you’ll never be an idealist again; you become too jaded. But Trina? She must be so disappointed in Spence. How can she help him make it better? Josslyn says, Esme can’t. If Spencer wants to make things right, start by telling his father the truth. Spencer says, or what? She’ll tell his father for him? He’s sorry he doesn’t have a perfect relationship with his dad like she does.

Jax says, he and Sonny have their own history, but Sonny says he doesn’t see how. Jax is part of Nina’s past. Sonny is her present and future. Jax says Nina isn’t the first woman they fought over. Hell, she’s not even the second. Sonny says, enough with the hints. If they fought over women in the past, that means Jax knows who he is. Jax knows his name. What’s his name? Does he have kids, does he have a family? Don’t even tell him, because everything that comes out of Jax’s mouth is a lie. Jax says he promised Nina that she could be the one to tell Sonny who he is, but he’ll tell Sonny this much, there are people who have risked their lives to hold on to what’s supposedly his. Sonny says, what’s his is there in Nixon Falls with Nina.  

Nina says she doesn’t know why Peter is going to all this trouble. He could have chartered a plane and been on his way to Mexico by now. He says, and just wave goodbye to her and Phyllis on the way? Ignore the fact they’re witnesses? He’s a fanatic about tying up loose ends. Nina says he has no time. Mike will be back. He says, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike. Doesn’t she mean Sonny? Phyllis asks, who’s Sonny? and Peter says Nina didn’t tell her? He’s so sorry to disappoint her, but her friend Nina has known exactly who Mike really is all along. In fact, she knows his wife and his kids. She just chose to lie about it all this time.

Out in a hallway, Drew tells Chloe, when the guard doesn’t check in, they’ll know something’s wrong. They keep moving, and he says he’s pretty much only seen the inside of his cell; she’s had the run of the place. Where to now? She tells him, outside the door, there’s a courtyard where they park their cars, and he says, he’ll just hotwire one of them, but it will take them a minute. She says, that’s why they have the keys, holding up a car key. He asks how long she’s had it, and she says since he took the beating. He tries different keys on the guard’s ring, trying to open the door, when a guard asks where they think they’re going.    

Dante says, Sam wants to go see Willow’s mom? and she says he has a lot of catching up to do. She goes by the name of Harmony, and Shiloh hardly ever made a move without her knowing about it. Dante says, so he had something on her? and Sam says she doesn’t think it’s something, but more like some sort of attraction. Sam thinks Harmony thought he was charismatic, and that’s all he needed. Harmony would basically do anything he asked, including drugging her and Kristina to initiate them into the Dawn of Day. Dante says Sam had every reason to kill that guy, although he wishes Shiloh was still there to question about Drew. She says, they have the next best thing. She holds out her hand, he takes it, and she pulls him along.

Alexis asks Harmony how anyone can upset a sociopath like Ryan. Esme came off entitled and spoiled, but maybe she’s just a harmless teenager. Harmony laughs, and says, there’s nothing harmless about that girl. The smile, the perfect manners, they’re all a cover, so she can slip the knife in your back, and make off with your wallet. Alexis thinks Harmony has been there too long, and Harmony says, Shiloh collected Esme’s type at Dawn of Day; beautiful as butterflies, but vicious as a nest of vipers. Harmony walks over to help Greg.

Esme says Josslyn has known Spence much longer than she has. She’s sure Josslyn realizes Spence’s feeling for his family is complicated. Josslyn says, that’s one word for it. Esme says, just so Josslyn knows, she told Spence that she thought it was wrong for him to mislead her and Cameron into thinking he’d just come to town, and she was very much against him asking Trina to keep his secret. Spencer says, good to know it’s unanimous. Everyone thinks he’s a jerk. Josslyn says, what a shock, and Esme says he knows she doesn’t think that. He just needs to work on his communication skills and his trust issues. Isn’t today Josslyn’s mom’s wedding day? Shouldn’t she be focused on that? Josslyn says she can multitask, and Josslyn says, so it’s more important for Josslyn to threaten Spence’s new understanding with his father?

Phyllis asks what Peter is saying. Does she know Mike’s real identity? Peter says, shame on Nina, lying to a nice woman like Phyllis, manipulating her. Phyllis let Nina into her home, opened her door to her, and sang her praises, and Nina deceived her all this time. Nina calls him a psychotic bastard, and he says, excuse me. He’s not the one who let Mike believe he was Mr. Nobody. She knew all along he was Sonny Corinthos, a married man, with a beautiful wife, and a whole bunch of grieving children back in Port Charles. Phyllis asks, is this true? like it matters right now, and Nina says, please. Phyllis has to believe her. The man called Sonny Corinthos is gone. He drowned in the Lantano River, and a much better man named Mike took his place. Peter says, that’s rich. He reinvents himself as Peter August, and he’s sick and twisted. Nina reinvents herself, and she’s the goddess of love. Nina says he’s right. They both made a lot of mistakes, but he has a chance to turn everything around. All he has to do is go; leave them alone. He says he thinks he speaks for Phyllis when he says they’ve heard enough of her lying mouth. It’s time to shut her up. He puts duct tape over Nina’s mouth, and Phyllis says she doesn’t want to die. He says he knows. Next time, chose better friends. Scratch that. They both know there won’t be a next time.

Chloe tells the guard, help her. She found this prisoner trying to escape, and she was trying to stop him. As she’s talking, she pretends like she’s scared and goes behind the guard. The guard says, it doesn’t look like it, and Drew asks if the guard is calling Chloe a liar, and punches him. Chloe stabs the guard in the neck with a syringe, and he drops. Drew says, don’t tell him she was planning that too, and she says, sometimes you have to improvise. Help her get him out of here. They pick the guard up, and drag him off.

Alexis says, that’s the second time Harmony mentioned her nephew’s girlfriend. If Esme is trouble, why does she care? Harmony says, because Alexis isn’t the only one who’s lonely. Harmony and her daughter are estranged, for good reason, but not only is she cut out of Willow’s life, she’s cut out of her grandson’s life, which is a long way of saying, she could use a friend too. Sam comes in, and Alexis tells Harmony that she’d like to pick up this conversation, but right now she has a visitor. She hugs Sam, saying, this is a surprise. Sam says she’s happy to see Alexis too, but she’s a collateral benefit. They’re here for another reason. Dante joins her, and says they’re here for a professional visit. They want to talk to Harmony about a case they’re working on.   

Josslyn says, what happened between Spencer and his dad is his business. However, he needs to apologize to Trina, and he’s going to have to work for it. If he’s going to make Josslyn choose between him and Trina, she’s choosing Trina. It’s not even a hard call. He tells Josslyn that he tried to explain to Trina that it’s not about her; it’s about him and his father. Esme tells him, listen to Josslyn. She believes 100% that he wasn’t trying to treat Trina poorly, but he did. Be the guy she knows he is, and apologize. Acknowledge that he put Trina in an impossible situation, and it wasn’t fair of him. He says, him? He did this. All by himself. Josslyn asks if he’s saying there was someone in it with him, and looks at Esme.   

Jax says Sonny claims he loves Nina, and Sonny says, they’re not just words. He loves Nina, and she loves him. Jax says, then trust her to tell him the truth. She’s probably back at the Tan-O. They can go there together… Sonny says he’s not going anywhere with Jax. Jax asks if he doesn’t trust Nina, and Sonny says, he trusts Nina; he doesn’t trust Jax. So Jax can go, he can stay, he can do whatever he wants, but stay the hell away from Nina. Sonny stomps off.

Peter brings out a can of kerosene, totally freaking Nina and Phyllis out. He says, they thought Mike would save the day. He guesses Mike is no more heroic than Sonny. He takes a sniff of the kerosene and warns them about the fumes, telling Nina, it’s certainly no Chanel No. 5. Not to worry. He starts to pour the kerosene on the bar, and says, this will all be over in a few minutes. Nina and Phyllis struggle and try to yell, but there’s no point. Peter pours the kerosene all over the place, and says, dead women tell no tales. He tried to work with Nina, but she had to run to her Aunt Liesl. He pours the kerosene over the boxes, and says, let’s look on the bright side. He, Maxie, and their daughter will live happily ever after. And they’re taking little James with them. He can grow up with a new dad. He knocks some boxes over in front of the door, and gets on the door side. He produces a box of matches that says, Tan-O on it, which he finds amusing. He lights one, and drops it. The flames leap up, and he leaves.   

Drew hopes they can find the right car, and messes with the keys, trying to unlock the door again. An alarm goes off, and he says they must have found the guard he locked in his cell. He continues trying keys, and tells her to go take the car. He’ll hold off the guards as long as he can. She says she can’t abandon him, but he says he’ll be all right. He gets the door open, and tells her, go somewhere public, very public, where they have security cameras, like the U.S. Consulate or a luxury hotel or something. She protests, but he says, someone wants him alive for whatever reason. She’s wasting time. Go. She jets, and Drew slams and locks the door. Two guards confront him, and he rushes them, knowing it’s futile. They punch the crap out of him.

Alexis says, Sam and Dante are working on a case that involves Harmony? and Harmony says she doesn’t know what they suspect her of doing, but she’s doing her best to clean up her act. Willow has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with Harmony’s life, unless she truly changes, which is what she’s trying to do… Sam tells her, hold on. Wait. They’re not here to accuse her. They actually need her help.

Esme says, maybe she’s being too hard on Spencer. She should have made sure he told his friends that he had a serious girlfriend. She should have made sure her appearance at the party was excepted, and not a big surprise. That way, Trina would have known his situation; that he was definitely unavailable. And that way, she wouldn’t have gotten any unrealistic expectations. They’ll just have to admit they messed up, and will do better moving forward. Right, Spence? Josslyn, who’s been watching this with interest, says, okay. She’s got to go. She has to get ready for her mom’s wedding. She tells Esme, as always, a pleasure. She leaves, and Spencer thanks Esme for throwing him under the bus. As if he did all this by himself, like she wasn’t a part of him arriving in town early and in secret. As if she hasn’t been part of the stalking. She’s the one who set Ava’s car on fire, something they never even discussed. She says she’s sorry. She just didn’t think it was the right call to let Josslyn think they were in this together. Trust her. This is his chance to make things right with his father. She’s only thinking about him. Josslyn watches them while she’s waiting for the elevator.  

Phyllis and Nina trapped, and struggle to get free, with walls of fire all around them. Sonny comes up the walk, and says, what the hell? He runs inside, and yells for Nina. Things start falling, and he looks through the flames

Tomorrow, Drew asks if that’s who the big boss is, Spinelli tells Jason that he wouldn’t have it any other way, Maxie tells Britt that the odds are in someone’s favor, and Carly says they have no idea what’s coming. Truer words.

💭 So, I’m wondering if Sonny will get knocked in the head saving Nina and Phyllis, and get his memory back. I’m also thinking, Esme isn’t really from Spencer’s school, and she has something on him. He does not seem interested. Also, Jax is like a head taller than Sonny. I never really noticed before. Maybe there haven’t been the two of them alone in many scenes.

🗽 About That Reunion…

Apparently, the RHONY Reunion has been iffy, but I missed the memo. However, it’s now on.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

I honestly don’t know wth happens. I think I have extra time, then I run late. I’m usually here by the time the opening credits roll, but still. So here’s the set-up. Robert is crying in his beer at The Floating Rib, and Anna arrives; it’s Dante’s birthday, and Sonny went to visit Mike; Brook and Michael spar at Sonny’s gym, and Jax catches up to Carly at the MetroCourt bar.

Sam tells Kristina, it’s no secret that Carly and Sonny are Jason’s closest friends. Jason knew them before she came along, and she’s fine with that. She supports it. Alexis asks Kristina, what’s going on? Why is she saying hurtful things to Sam? Kristina says she’s not trying to be hurtful. She’s trying to get Sam to see the truth. Molly says, it sounds like something Kristina learned from DoD, but Kristina says, just the opposite. She’s gained perspective since then, and is trying to be a better person. Molly says, so now Kristina is a relationship expert, despite never having had a healthy relationship herself? Is she jealous of Sam’s love for Jason?

At The Floating Rib, Mac thanks Anna for coming. Robert is sad, but okay. He’s been drinking a lot of beer. Robert says he can’t believe Holly is gone. He texted Luke, but he’s probably preoccupied with Ethan. Mac says, it’s horrible, losing a parent. Robert says, Holly could charm the pants off of you, steal your wallet, and you’d still be charmed. He really did love her. Anna asks how he is, and he says, lousy. Mac tells Anna, he didn’t lose a great love, but Holly was a great friend. Anna says she’s sorry, and Felicia says, Holly would want them to celebrate her life, not mourn her death. Anna says, champagne and caviar, everything first class. On someone else’s dime, of course (🍷). Maxie and Peter come in, and Maxie asks, what’s going on? Robert says, it’s a terrible time. He doesn’t need Peter around, so get out.

Sonny shows Mike Dante’s picture on his phone, and says it’s his grandson. Does Mike recognize him? Mike says, nice phone. Felix comes in, and asks if Mike needs anything. Mike asks if Felix wants to play checkers, but Sonny says he needs to talk to Felix. He’ll be right back. He leaves Mike his phone, and they go into the hallway. He tells Felix that his dad is struggling to eat, but Felix says, Mike had some applesauce when he woke up. Is it a problem? Sonny says, it’s not a problem. It’s just that Mike is eating the same thing his baby daughter is eating, and it’s strange for him. Sonny goes back into Mike’s room, where Mike is staring into space and smiling.

Jax tells Carly that Nina had a front row seat to the custody war between Lulu and Valentin, and they called a cease fire. Carly says, that’s great, but Charlotte’s case is nothing like Wiley’s. Nina said she wanted to protect Wiley, and that’s why she hired Nelle. He says, if there’s no smoking gun, Nina isn’t going to plant one, and Carly says, why not? Nelle has done it often enough. Turnabout is fair play. He says, Nina looks at Nelle and sees herself. She never got the love of a mother. She says, it’s the same sob story Nelle has given before. It’s an act. She’s a total manipulator, and Nina should know better.

Nina says Nelle misinterpreted the conversation. She wasn’t defending Nelle; she was just  trying to understand. Nelle says, that’s more than anyone else has done or tried to do. Nina says, if Nelle is honest, she’s given people reason to doubt her; even to fear her. Nelle says, she can’t deny that, but can’t people change? Learn from their mistakes, and become a better person? Like Nina. Nina says, it doesn’t matter what she thinks, what matters is what the judge thinks. Nelle says, the judge will listen to Nina, but Nina says she doesn’t know why she should get involved, since the custody hearing has nothing to do with her.

Brook tells Michael, he can hit harder; put some muscle into it. Get in touch with his anger. He needs to get his aggression out, or disaster will strike. He’ll see Nelle, and lose it, calling her out for the psycho bitch she is. Then Nelle will turn on the waterworks, and tell the judge he’s abusive and vindictive. Michael says, that’s why he’s going to be under control, but she says if he goes in cold and calculating looking to inflict maximum damage, he’ll regret it. That’s why he has to vent while he’s there. Pretend she’s Nelle, and let her have it. He punches harder, and she says, that’s it. Now pretend he’s that girlfriend stealing Chase, and give him what he deserves. Michael turns around, and sees Sasha and Chase standing behind him, outside the ring.

Anna tells Maxie and Peter, Charlie’s might be a better fit. Robert is hurting, and drowning in beer. Maxie explains to Peter that Holly was Robert’s ex-wife. He says, Robert was married to Anna, but Maxie says, you can have more than one great love; look at them. Anna says her relationship with Holly was complicated. Sometimes they were friends, sometimes enemies; they were frenemies. She feels bad, especially since Robert adored Holly. Peter says she’s right. They should go to Charlie’s. Maxie says she wants to give Robert her condolences first. It was so sudden. He must be devastated.

Sonny tells Felix, it’s great having him there for his dad, and Felix says he’s glad to help. Sonny says he knows it’s tough, putting in the extra time, but Felix says he’s glad Sonny reached out. He’s always liked Mike, and if his being there makes Mike more comfortable, that’s the reason he became a nurse in the first place. Sonny says, he appreciates it, and goes back into Mike’s room. He tells Mike, he’s learning things about him all the time. He likes his pillows firm, but not too firm. Now he’s learned Mike likes applesauce. Who knew? He’s tired of thinking about what Mike wants, and needs Mike to tell him what he needs. How does he want to live the remaining time he has left? Does he want the doctors to take every measure they can to save his life, or does he want them to do nothing? Mike’s got to tell him something. What does he want? Mike motions him closer, and says, Yankees.

Carly tells Jax, she gets that Nina has unresolved issues about babies and motherhood, but Nina will be to blame if Nelle gets her hands on Wiley. Jax asks if that’s not a little unfair. Carly says she knows Jax is thinking about what she said regarding Nina not being a mother, but she thinks Nina paints a romantic picture of motherhood. Just because you carry and deliver a baby, doesn’t mean you become a good and selfless person. Look at Nelle; there’s been no maternal bonding. Jax says Carly admitted she wasn’t good or selfless until she had Michael. Isn’t that what changed her? Carly says it did, but it wasn’t like a magic wand. She didn’t go to bed a gold-digger, and wake up a Madonna. She had to make choices, and had to give up things she liked. She hated it, and had to learn to sacrifice things she loved when she realized it was the best thing for her kids. Nelle never learned that. That’s why she’s dangerous.

Nelle wishes she knew how to convince Nina she’s changed. Nina says, if she agreed to testify – and it’s a big if – the only thing she could say is, in the brief time Nelle has worked there, she’s been a good employee. She can’t vouch for Nelle’s motive or character, or how she’d be as a mother. Nelle says they’ve talked about it. She told Nina what she’s up against, and why she needed the job. She knows what happened with Sasha still hurts, and how badly Nina wanted it. That’s how she feels about Wiley. Don’t believe Brad. She didn’t give the baby away; she believed he died. Now she has an incredible second chance to hold her son. Nina says, Nelle is good; she’ll give her that. Nelle says, she’s not good. Everyone knows that, but she has a chance to do better for Wiley. It’s a start, and maybe one day, she’ll grow into someone people admire, like Nina, but she can’t unless somebody gives her a second chance.

Sasha says she had no idea Michael would be there, and tells Chase, let’s go. Brook says, don’t leave on their account. Not that they care. Chase says it doesn’t involve Brook, but Brook says Michael has a custody hearing tomorrow, and can’t risk beating up a cop. She’s in a different boat. Chase tells Sasha, let’s go, and Brook says she was willing to give Sasha the benefit of the doubt; a bad girl who turned her life around because of the love of a good man. It was a fairytale she was willing to buy into, but Sasha isn’t just bad. She’s rotten to the core. A liar and a user; one step above Nelle. Chase tells her to stop, and she says, and him. A cheating cheater who cheats. Willow found out her baby died, and he jumps into bed with her supposed friend. Sasha says if Brook’s got a problem, bring it to her. Brook says Sasha’s got it.

Kristina agrees with Molly. Her love life has been like the Titanic, where she’s reaching for a life preserver that isn’t there. But she doesn’t want to feel desperate. She wants a relationship like Molly and TJ have. Molly says, the one where she cheated on TJ, and Kristina tried to convince her not to tell him? Sam doesn’t want to talk about Jason, TJ, or anyone else. All she wants is a drink right now. She looks at Alexis, and says, sorry. Kristina says their mom has been sober for years, and Molly says she doesn’t think mentioning a drink will send Alexis to a bar. Alexis says, since they’re being brutally honest, she’ll tell them what she’s already told Sam. She’s only been sober for two weeks.

Maxie tells Robert, she’s so shocked. It doesn’t matter how long they were apart. She knows how much he cared. Peter tells Mac and Felicia, sorry for their loss, and Felicia says that’s kind of him. Robert says, the late Holly Sutton. How does that happen? It makes it better when you say late. She’s not really dead, just late. Anna says he’s not being fair to Peter, and Robert says Peter always means well. He laughs, and says, Henrik, how is it that such a remarkable woman like Holly’s got to die, and a completely unadulterated dirtbag like you gets to live?

Sonny and Mike watch a baseball game on TV, and Sonny says, Mike’s got a hit. Felix says, it’s a nice father and son moment. Sonny says he asked his father what he wanted. He was thinking about life and death, but Mike said, the Yankees. They all love baseball, especially Dante. They didn’t raise him, but it’s in his DNA. Even with everything Mike’s forgotten, he remembers baseball. He wishes Dante was here. He’d love it as much as Mike.

Jax tells Carly, he knows Nina seems to be wavering, but she cares more about Wiley’s welfare than Nelle’s. Trust her to do the right thing. Carly hopes he’s right. On top of the hearing in the morning, there’s a lot going on with Mike. Sonny has some difficult decisions to make. Jax says he’s sorry, and she says, that’s why she was hoping to uncover something that would lock up the case for Michael getting custody, and it would all be over with Nelle. He says he would help in any way he can with either situation. He’d drop everything, and hopes she knows that. She says she does, because Jax is the guy he is. He’s the good guy who wants to swoop in to save the day, but he can’t. He says, as far as the custody hearing goes, he’ll talk to Nina. She thanks him, and says, if Nina will listen to anyone, it’s him.

Brook steps out of the ring, and tells Sasha that they can go ten rounds, but Sasha says she’s not like Lulu, who will back off after a few insults. Chase tells Sasha not to stoop to Brook’s level; let’s go. Michael suggests they all cool down, and Brook says, what was Sasha thinking? She’s obviously too shallow to appreciate Michael’s loyalty and commitment, but he’s the shining star of the Quartermaine family. He’s got prestige and connections, and a bottomless bank account. Sasha could have been sitting pretty. Instead, she jumped into bed with Chase. Brook punches Sasha in the face, and is like, oops.

Molly says she’s sorry, and asks if Alexis is okay. Alexis says, she’s fine. She had one drink, and went straight to an AA meeting. Molly asks, what happened? and Alexis says, maybe her and Neil testifying at the hearing. Maybe there was too much pressure, and she took the easy way out. Sam says, that’s not what happened. She went off on Alexis, and said some things she shouldn’t have. Alexis says, Sam didn’t make her drink; she did. If she drank every time they exchanged words, she wouldn’t have a liver. She’s ready for whatever comes. Kristina asks if she means Neil, and Alexis says she’s not sure.

Felicia tells Robert, no more beer; coffee. Peter says he’s going to get out of everyone’s way, and steps outside. Maxie tells Robert, she loves him, and knows the pain he’s experiencing, but he doesn’t get to talk to Peter like that. Robert asks why Holly had to die. He knows in his heart that she wasn’t ready; it wasn’t her time. Mac says they’ve all lost people, and Felicia says, no one ever thinks it’s the right time. Out in the hallway, Peter sends a text: Need answers. NOW. Maxie comes out, and says, sorry. It’s the grief and a lot of beer talking. Peter asks if she’s telling him not to take it personally, and she says, with Robert, it’s always personal, but it’s not Peter’s fault Holly died.

Sonny says, are you kidding him? He was off by a mile. He sees Mike is asleep. Carly comes in, and says she can hear Sonny down the hall. He says his dad wanted to watch the Yankees.

Nina tells Nelle, before she even considers testifying on her behalf, Nelle has to do more than promise to be a better person. A child is at stake. A child who’s been taken away from the only parent he knows. Nelle says that’s why she needs Nina. Michael’s family is going to raise Wiley to think that she didn’t want or deserve him. He’ll wonder why his mom is a stranger. She needs him to know she didn’t turn her back on him. Will Nina give her a second chance? Help her out? There’s a knock at the door, and Jax asks if he’s interrupting.

Brook tells Chase, she’s calling a Ride Share. She’s going to check on Michael at the hospital, and make sure he doesn’t do something stupid, like forgive Sasha. He says she can’t go around punching people, and she says, it was an accident. He wonders why there are always accidents when she’s there, and she says, look around him. It’s a boxing gym. People are supposed to throw punches. Don’t blame her for his bad mood, and that he lost his girlfriend because he couldn’t keep it in his pants.

Felicia tells Robert that he can use some more coffee.  Robert says, fine, and Mac says, drink up. Robert tells Anna, it’s not like he said anything bad, and she says he told Peter that he should feel guilty for being alive. He says that’s not the way he meant to say it, and Mac asks if there’s a right way. Felicia says Robert owes Peter an apology. Holly would want that. Maxie comes back, and Anna asks where Peter is. Maxie says, he needed some air. She doesn’t blame him.

Outside, a guy approaches Peter. He says he got there as fast as he could. What’s the problem? Peter slams him up against the side of the building, and the guy asks, what’s wrong? Peter says he told him to distract Robert, not kill Holly. The guy says, they were monitoring her, but had nothing to do with the incident. Peter says, if he finds out the guy is lying… and they guy swears it’s the truth. Peter lets him go, and he asks if Peter still wants them to do something to distract Robert. Peter says, there’s no need now. Fate seems to have done it for him.

Carly and Sonny go into the hallway. Mike says, the Yankees were Mike’s idea. He told Mike it was Dante’s birthday, and Mike mentioned the Yankees. He connected the two things. Carly says, maybe Mike was telling Sonny what he wanted to hear, and Sonny says, could be, but at least his dad connected it. He wanted to talk about the DNR, and asked Mike if he wanted the doctors to let him go or take extra measures. That’s when he brought up the Yankees. That says his dad isn’t ready to give up.

Jax asks if Nina is done for the night, and she says she is. Nelle says, actually, they were in the middle of a conversation, but Nina says, Jax is right. Nelle has a big day tomorrow, and should get some sleep. Nelle thanks Nina for listening, and hopes Nina thinks about what she said. Jax says, goodnight, Nelle, and Nelle grabs her stuff and leaves. Jax asks what Nelle wanted, and Nina says Nelle wanted her to be a character witness. He says, wow; she’s shameless. Nina doesn’t respond, and he says, she isn’t seriously considering it, is she?

Chase tells Brook, she needs to clean up her own life before she points fingers at him. She asks if it makes him uncomfortable; her pointing out that he’s a lying, sleazy cheat who betrayed her cousin. It’s a funny thing about the Quartermaines. They talk about each other, but close ranks when an interloper like Sasha. Chase says, what they do behind closed doors is her business, but… He takes out his ticket book, and says, disturbing the peace is his. He’s citing her for public disturbance. Be grateful it’s not misdemeanor assault. She can pay online or in person. He hands her the ticket, and she rips it up, saying that’s what she thinks of his ticket.

Maxie tells Mac, she knows how much he loved Holly too. Peter joins them, and Mac asks if he’s feeling better. Peter says, very much so, and Mac asks him to overlook Robert’s words; it’s the grief talking. Peter says he understands. What happened is tragic. Felicia tells Anna, when the shock wears off, they need to have a proper memorial. Not too proper; Holly loved a good time. She asks Anna, what is it? She’s been quiet all night. Anna says she read the report from the WSB about the incident where Holly was killed. Felicia wonders why the WSB is involved, and Anna says, Holly did contract work for them. Felicia asks if Holly was killed while she was working, and Anna says, that’s classified, but let it suffice to say, she saw enough to believe there’s more to the story.

Sonny tells Carly, he’s not ready to make a decision on how Mike should live his final days. He’ll  try to talk to Mike tomorrow. Carly asks if he wants to turn off the TV, so Mike can sleep, but he says, leave it on, in case he wakes up. He looks in on Mike one more time, and they leave.

Brook calls Chase a glorified meter maid, and he tells her that she shouldn’t have done that. She asks if he’s going to write her another ticket for littering, and he says, no. He takes out his handcuffs, and says, she’s under arrest – again.

Nelle sits at the MetroCourt bar, and calls Martin. She says he’s going to be proud. She thinks she may have found a character witness that will make the case a slam dunk. Um… hardly. Not only does Nina have a past of her own, wasn’t she just bamboozled by Sasha? That doesn’t exactly speak to her credibility as a judge of character.

Nina tells Jax, she didn’t tell Nelle that she would testify for her. Jax says she didn’t tell Nelle that she wouldn’t. She says she has a lot think about between now and the morning. he says he admires her compassion, and respects her opinion, but if she gives Nelle the benefit of the doubt, Wiley will end up paying the price. Can she live with that?

Kristina says, Neil lost his license because he and Alexis were involved? Alexis’s phone rings, and she says, it’s Diane; she has to take it. She asks Diane if it’s good news or bad news. She can’t talk; she’s with the girls. They’ll talk tomorrow. Sam asks, what happened? and Alexis says she’s been disbarred.

Tomorrow, Trina tells Portia that she doesn’t trust Jordan, Sasha tells Michael to stop being so nice, and Sonny says the plan is already in motion.

🤽🏻‍♀️ Since Andy Cohen hates me, RHOBH was on at 8 pm with no rerun encore performance tonight. Instead, Summer House had a two-hour finale – a final episode, followed by a reunion at home, doubling as Watch What Happens Live. Why those awful people should be allowed a two-hour block of air time is beyond me. I wasn’t paying a lot of attention, but they had some huge party that I think was supposed to have a rave theme. Unfortunately, this stupidity is being stretched out, with a Secrets Revealed special next week. I don’t want to know.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

It was the weekend of Teddi’s retreat, and she said she wasn’t tolerating any bullsh*t. Sutton decided to apologize to Teddi and go to the retreat, but Teddi acted like the unappreciative jerk she is, and was annoyed. It’s not surprising that she didn’t understand why telling people she didn’t care if they came or not caused a negative reaction. Her own feelings take up so much space, she doesn’t have room to decipher anyone else’s. Dorit was late, which didn’t sit well with Kyle, especially when she saw Dorit’s Instagram. Apparently, her tardiness was due to getting hair and makeup done so she could squeeze in a Glam Barbie photo shoot. Dorit screeched that she had a life, as though no one else did and commitments don’t matter. Oh, wait. That’s right. They don’t to Dorit. To Teddi’s credit, she did explain that she’d been put on the defensive when LisaR asked what if someone came and caused sh*t (the sh*t being caused wasn’t specified). She said it shifted everything for her. Although I stand by my theory that she was breaking up with them before anyone broke up with her, because she’s so insecure and afraid of failure.

After a boxing exercise, where Sutton looked lost, there was I have no idea what, then lunch, and free time in the afternoon for spa treatments, journaling, or whatever. Yeah. Like any of these women are going to write about their feelings when they could be getting a massage. I wouldn’t either. And I like to write. In the evening, there was an hour of meditation, and in her interview, Dorit said that she’d rather go to the DMV for a month than do an hour of meditation. Wow. Either she has one easy time at the DMV, or she can’t sit quietly for an hour. I can’t clear my mind either, but there’s no time for a nap like at meditation. When Dorit said she was going to be leaving early, Kyle called her out, saying she’d been hours late, skipped meditation, and now wanted to leave early. Dorit again said she had a life, adding an effing in there for emphasis. In Kyle’s interview, she said Dorit was shallow and selfish. Erika said it best and simplest when, in her interview, she thought they should just admit no one wants to be there. Although there are two different camps here. The ones who don’t want to be there, but they’re actually being supportive, keeping that to themselves, and participating; and Dorit, who makes it clear she doesn’t want to be there, and pretends she’s being supportive. Actually, there was a third camp. The ones who were supportive from afar.

Amelia was back from NYC, and feeling happier for it. She wanted to get an evaluation. LisaR said, when she’d seen Amelia in the city, she thought Amelia was in trouble. Amelia said, when things get difficult, her decision making tactics shut down. LisaR told Amelia that she barely made it through three months of college, then proceeded to gesture wildly to the paparazzi. Amelia said she was a handful. That’s one word for it.

Garcelle took her sons out for dinner, one of whom informed her he wanted Gucci. She told him, get a job, and he said he was eleven. She was like, exactly. So you don’t need Gucci. So far, I like Garcelle. In her interview, she said she grew up in a strict family with a Black mama who was not playing. She told her sons that they weren’t getting Gucci anything. It’s obnoxious.

Denise was over living in Malibu. She had PTSD from the fire, but didn’t want to move and take the kids out of school. She was getting ready to have everyone over for a not typical Beverly Hills dinner party in the backyard. They were having pizza made in a pizza oven, and a sundae bar that sounded magical. An ice sculpture carved into a huge diamond, like the ones they hold in the opening, was delivered. This thing looked absolutely beautiful after it got dark, and there were lights on it.

Apparently, Dorit had been on repeat, talking about Kyle sharing a bed with Teddi, and Kyle wondered if Dorit was jealous of their friendship. Dorit might be jealous of their more well-behaved children, since Jagger wailed and whined when Dorit had to leave the house. If that’s here effing life, no thanks.

When the women sat down for dinner, sexual exploits were discussed, with Garcelle saying she kissed a girl and liked it when she was a model, and Erika saying she had been part of a threesome with a couple (before Tom). Denise was concerned about the kids overhearing, and in Erika’s interview, she wondered why pearls were being clutched. In Denise’s interview, she says she’s open sexually – we flashed back to last season’s happy ending conversation – but that didn’t mean she wanted her kids hearing it.

Dorit said it was a pattern that Kyle had blind defensiveness when it came to Teddi, and in her interview, said Kyle and Teddi were a package deal. If you had an issue with one, you had an issue with the other, and she was frustrated with it. Kyle was mad at her for being late, when it was Teddi’s event, and Teddi wasn’t mad. Kyle said she was late to do her Glam Barbie look for working out, when she wasn’t going to work out. In her interview, Dorit wondered why TF Kyle cared. Kyle said she didn’t think Dorit was genuine, and Denise asked them to cool it when the kids were around. Erika took up somewhat for Dorit, explaining that Dorit thought Kyle blindly rushed to Teddi’s defense. In Kyle’s interview, she said she lost one of her closest friends defending Dorit, and Dorit had a selective memory. LisaR said Kyle was the same way with her, and defending her sister. Although, that was a whole different thing. LisaR was talking real smack, and it was untrue. Kyle insisted that wasn’t the case, and the text said, to be continued…

Next time, Kyle walks, and Denise gets into it with Kyle. I’m starting to notice, I’m making this more of a personality analysis than a recap.
