General Hospital

On the phone at the hospital, Portia says she’s trying to locate a Dr. Paul Braddock… Yes, this is concerning one of his previous patients… Okay, she’ll hold. Stella, Marshall, and Curtis wait, and Nurse Sarah asks if Portia didn’t want these test results right away. Stella says she can take over and Portia hands her the phone. She leaves with the nurse, and Stella says, yes, she’s here… Yes, she understands Dr. Braddock has retired, but he was part of the Med Psyche Evaluation Faculty. Shouldn’t they be able to reach him?… She thanks them for looking into it. They can call her back at this number. Curtis says he guesses he was being a little overconfident, thinking they could drive down to Maryland and get answers. This Dr. Braddock is hard to find. Stella says, they’ll track him down eventually, and find out why he misdiagnosed Marshall with schizophrenia. Now go on. Marshall asks if she’s trying to get rid of them, and she asks Curtis, does he or does he not have physical therapy? Curtis says he does, and she says, then get to moving. Marshall says, best not to argue with the lady, and Curtis says, bye, Aunt Stella, as Marshall wheels him away.

Gregory thanks Finn, and Finn says, that’s the third time he’s said that. Gregory says, Finn has better things to do than proofread his copy, but Finn says he’s happy to. Gregory says, unfortunately, his keyboard game isn’t what it used to be, and Finn says he can tell. What’s that supposed to be? Gregory reads, went about his way, and Finn says, that makes a lot more sense. He can actually type this for Gregory. It will take him two minutes. Gregory says, it will actually take much longer than that, and Finn is a busy man. His son, the doctor. Finn says, no… when Portia knocks at the door, and Finn asks what he can do for her. She says she just got the radiology report from Heather Webber’s MRI, and Gregory says, that’s his cue to make his exit. It’s good to see Portia. He leaves, and Finn says he takes it there’s something interesting in the report, and Portia tells him, you could say that.

Nina goes into Alexis’s office and says, unbelievable. Alexis says, thank you… Oh, she didn’t mean that as a compliment. Nina says, far from it. That follow-up piece she put in today’s paper about the incident at the docks? Alexis says, what about it? and Nina says, it was an outrage, that’s what about it. Alexis tells her, like Nina said, she ran the piece; she didn’t write it. Nina says, so? and Alexis says, so that’s how it works in local news. Nina says she’s seen how it works, but it was a smear job on Sonny. Sonny knows she’s publishing this newspaper and the last thing she wants is to antagonize him. Alexis says, then quit. Better yet, why doesn’t Nina run the paper, and stop antagonizing her?

At the hospital, Diane looks at her phone as she walks down the hallway with Robert. She gasps and says she’s going to break her kneecaps. He asks, whose kneecaps? and she asks if she said that out loud. He says, she did, when Portia and Finn come out of the elevator. Portia says, DA Scorpio. Just the man she wanted to see.

Standing next to Laura, Doc asks if Heather can state her full name for him, and she says, Heather Grant Moore Taylor… No. Baker, then Taylor. He says, that wasn’t a fair question. How about, what is today’s date? She says, March… something. The days are just blending together. He asks, who’s their president? and she says, the guy with the aviators. She can’t focus. Doesn’t Laura understand? It’s too painful to look at him. All she can see is his brother.

In the hallway, Doc says he wishes he could report Heather is in her right mind, but… Robert says, sane or not sane, he doesn’t really give a damn. She’s being transferred today. Portia says she’d be glad to see the last of Heather Webber, believe her, but unfortunately, she’s not going anywhere.

At Dex’s apartment, he asks if Josslyn can hand him another box, but she says, no. He says, please? and she says, no. She’s not going to help him do the very thing she doesn’t want him to do and that doesn’t have to happen. He says, they’ve been over this, and she says, it still makes no sense. He loves it in Port Charles. He says he does, and she says, and he loves her. He says, even more, and she asks, then how can he leave? He says he’d ask her to come with him, but he knows she needs to stay close to her family, and she says she needs her family, and they need her, but she needs him too. They kiss, and he picks her up, carrying her to the bedroom where they get busy.

Alexis says she has a suggestion for Nina. Why doesn’t she run The Invader the way she sees fit, and leave her out of it? But she can’t, can she? Because she doesn’t know how to edit a newspaper. Nina says, nor does she have any desire to, and Alexis says, then let her do her job. Gregory walks in and says, here you go. Sorry, he didn’t realize she had… Nina snatches the papers out of his hand and asks what Alexis has him writing. Alexis says, Nina… and Nina says, call it quality control. She doesn’t want tomorrow’s paper resembling today’s. Alexis says, that is psychotic, let alone obsessive, and Gregory says, it’s an article on the police department outreach to kids ages 8 to 14. Alexis says, scandalous, and Gregory says, they do field trips, athletics, arts and crafts. His son Chase is one of the volunteer officers. Nina says, it’s highly unprofessional. Look at this, with all of the red marks, the cross outs, the typos. And why didn’t he electronically submit this? Alexis takes it out of her hand and says, if she wants the edition out by tomorrow, Nina needs to get out of her office right now. Out! Nina leaves, saying, whatever, and Alexis slams the door.

Portia says, these are Heather’s MRI images, showing Doc her tablet, and Robert asks, what exactly are they looking at here? Portia says, this is the reason she isn’t being discharged today, not in this condition, and Diane says she loves a good guessing game, but she has the feeling she’s not needed here, so good luck. Robert says he thinks he’s going to need it, and Diane leaves. Dr. Enoch joins them, and Portia thanks him for making the time. Laura asks if somebody can please tell them what’s going on, and Portia tells Dr. Enoch that he can actually speak in front of Mayor Collins. She holds Heather Webber’s health care proxy. Laura says she does? and Portia tells her, that’s what the paperwork says. Laura says, dear God. She supposes she might be the nearest thing Heather has left to family. Doc says, scary thought, and Robert asks if they can get back to the matter at hand. Dr. Enoch says, see these orbs of brightness? They suggest metallosis, specifically, cobalt poisoning. Laura asks how you get that, and the doctor says, fractured or slowly deteriorating hip replacement hardware. Doc says, so Heather’s hip replacement is poisoning her? and Dr. Enoch says, to confirm, they’ll need a blood test, tox screen, and a panel for heavy metals. Finn says, already ordered, and Dr. Enoch tells Doc, that’s the working theory, yes. It’s sometimes accompanied by a spectrum of neuropsychiatric symptoms. Have they noticed any changes, however subtle, in Heather’s behavior in recent years?

Curtis lifts his foot, and Don says, good. As he gets stronger, he can increase the use of weights. It’s going to help his quads and hamstrings. Marshall says, and they’re all for that, aren’t they? and Curtis says, how many reps? Don says, as many as he can tolerate. As long as his pain level doesn’t go above a three. Curtis says he knows Don has other patients. Does he mind if Curtis stays at it a minute? Don asks if Marshall will keep an eye on Curtis, and Marshall says, absolutely. Don says, let’s go for it, and leaves. Curtis thanks Marshall for staying and Marshall says he loves it, watching Curtis work so hard, He’s proud of Curtis. Curtis says he’s proud of Marshall. Confronting Dr. Braddock when he knows Marhsall had reservations. Marshall says, oh, that, and Curtis asks if he’s thought about what he’s going to say to him when they’re finally face to face. Marshall says, if it’s the same psychiatrist he remembers, it won’t be anything nice.

On the phone, Finn asks if there’s anything on those orders Dr. Robinson put through… Great. Thanks. He tells Portia that Heather’s test results should be in, and Portia says she’ll look them up. Here we go. She shows Dr. Enoch, who says his preliminary diagnosis is confirmed. Doc asks, what now? and Dr. Enoch says, the hip that’s failing needs to be replaced immediately. Robert asks if the federal pen of the women’s division can’t do it, and Laura says, Robert… He says, she’s a homicidal maniac, and Laura says, yes, but now they’re learning there may be a medical reason for that. He says, she’s always been a bit loony, and Laura says, loony, yes. She used to do crazy things. Like once she tried to give somebody LSD, and she ended up drinking it herself, but she’s not a murderer. She’s definitely not a serial killer. That’s just… Doc says, new, and Portia says she’s not a fan of Heather Webber, but this is about human suffering. She checked with Dr. Randolph, who agrees with her. If they fail to treat Heather Webber, they can be opening themselves up to an investigation for possible liability. Laura tells Robert that they’ve got to let this go, especially if it poses a risk to the hospital. Robert tells her, right, and walks away as he says, to think he missed breakfast in bed because of this.

The reception phone rings, and Stella answers, Dr. Robinson here… Can they say that again?… She thanks them for getting back to her, and watches as Doc goes up the stairs to his office.

Basking in the afterglow, Josslyn says she’s glad they’re still good at that, and Dex asks if she thought they wouldn’t be. She says, no. It’s nice to know, that’s all. They kiss, and he says he wishes they could stay in bed all day. She asks why they can’t, and he says he has to pack, and gets out of bed. She says, he’s still leaving? and he says he has to. She tells him to stop saying that. He doesn’t have to. He’s making a choice to do this. He says, it doesn’t feel like a choice to him. He realized he didn’t know Sonny as well as he thought he did. Maybe that’s how she feels about Jason now that he’s suspected of shooting Dante. She says, Jason did not shoot Dante, okay? That she knows. What he did do was wrap that bandage around him and call 911. You know how she knows that? The two of them are very similar. They’re both good, decent human beings. Just like how she doesn’t understand how he and Jason are so loyal to someone like Sonny. He says he was loyal to Sonny. He’s also afraid of him. Maybe not him so much, but who he’s becoming because of him. Maybe she should be too.

Alexis says she’s so sorry about Nina, but Gregory says, she doesn’t know. Alexis says she doesn’t care what Nina knows or doesn’t know. She had no right to talk to him that way. It was callous and it was rude. He says, maybe, but as her publisher, Nina is allowed to set standards. And after today, it’s become clear to him that he can no longer meet them. She says she disagrees, but he says, pretending otherwise does him no favors. Please allow him his dignity. He takes the papers out of her hand and says, this will be his last article for The Invader. He heads for the door, and she asks where he’s going with that. He says he’s going to make the corrections that Nina wanted, and then he’ll submit his final copy electronically like all her other writers do. She thanks him, he says, the pleasure’s been his, and he leaves.

As Curtis lifts the weights with his legs, he says he knows how Marshall feels about Dr. Braddock now, but what were his impressions of him at the beginning? Marshall says, Dr. Braddock was kind, at first. He was compassionate and understanding. When Marshall told him that he felt like everything was against him, and he meant that… Curtis says, money, work, and Marshall says, family obligations. He was sympathetic, and assured Marshall that it wasn’t his fault. Curtis says, a chemical imbalance, and Marshall says, the way he put it was, there was a part of his brain that was fighting itself. That was an explanation that gave him relief. It was an explanation as to why everything was going to hell. But he didn’t have insurance, so when the doctor prescribed him pills that he couldn’t afford, he was out there cobbling that money together. Don’t ask him how he did it. Curtis says he won’t, and Marshall says, anything to help him better take care of Curtis, his mother, and his brother, but those pills made him rigid. He couldn’t play. He could barely feel his fingers. His mouth was so dry, the reed just stuck to it. Curtis asks if he told the doctor, and Marshall says, that’s when the doctor offered him those shock treatments at the bargain price of $800 a pop. Curtis says, get out of here, and Marshall says he ain’t kiddin’. Curtis says, so what did he do? and Marshall says he blew up on him. He vented his anger, and he vented his frustration. Curtis asks, how did Dr. Braddock take it? and Marshall says, not well.

Heather says, metallosis? That sounds like something you get when your tongue freezes to the flagpole. (Ha-ha-ha! It does.) Portia says, Dr. Enoch believes the condition is what’s causing Heather’s symptoms, and Heather says, her symptoms? Laura says, both physical and mental, and Heather asks Dr. Enoch if he’s saying this poison is making her think things and do things she normally wouldn’t. Dr. Enoch says, it’s a very real possibility that metallosis has altered her perception and behavior, and Heather says, no doctor has told her anything ever except that she’s crazy. Dr. Enoch asks, how long has the pain in her hip been acute? and Heather says she’s not sure, but it feels like an eternity. He says, they would surgically remove the defective apparatus and replace it with a current model, and she says, he means like, buying a new car, and you just junk the old ship and replace it with this year’s model? He says, as with many surgeries, there are significant risks. A standard hip replacement takes approximately two hours. Hers may be double that. She’ll be under anesthesia and carefully monitored. However, in rare cases, patients experience complications from anesthesia. Heather says, complications meaning you never wake up? and he says, in rare cases. But before they do the surgery, they’re going to start her on cobalt chelation… Heather asks if she could just have a minute, indicating with Laura, and the doctor steps aside. She tells Laura that she doesn’t understand what he’s saying. She hears the words, but all that medicalese just sounds like white noise. Does Laura know what he’s talking about? Laura says she thinks she does, and Heather asks if Laura can just figure out for her, please? Laura is her guardian now. Laura says she’s not Heather’s guardian. It’s just in case she can’t make decisions for herself. She’s just in charge of Heather’s medical care. Heather says, as Laura can see, she’s having a hard time with that, and Portia says, she’s having a hard time with what exactly? Heather says, with making decisions. There should be a will. It’s in her file she thinks. Portia says, yes, she’s seen it, and Heather says, short and sweet. Portia says, she leaves her entire estate to her grandson Ace, and Heather says, not that she has anything to leave, but she doesn’t want to leave him. So what does Laura think? Should she have them take out her whole hip and put in a new one? Laura says, it’s a personal choice, and Heather says, please, help her decide. Laura says she thinks Heather should do it, and Heather exhales.

Finn says, Gregory’s back, and Gregory says he changed his mind. Finn says, about? and Gregory asks if he’d mind retyping this, after work. Finns says he doesn’t mind typing it right now, and Gregory asks if he’s sure. Finn says, positive, and Gregory thanks him and sits down. Finn asks, what was the verdict? Is Alexis a fan? Gregory says, Alexis usually likes what he writes, but he’s decided this will be his last article. Finn asks, how come? and Gregory says, the newspaper gig just isn’t for him. Finn says, it will certainly free up some more time. So he can finish up that Chaucer book he’s been working on. Or he always said he wanted to write a novel. Gregory looks at his shaky hand and says, it’s on his list. Finn says, start scratching a few things off, will he? There’s no time like the present, so they say. Gregory says, the present is all we’ve got.

Diane blows into Alexis’s office, tossing her bag on a chair, and marching up to Alexis’s desk. Alexis asks, what’s her problem? and Diane unfolds the paper and reads, Port Charles own redheaded mob lawyer shacking up with the District Attorney. She tosses the paper onto Alexis’s desk, and Alexis says she never said that. Diane says, her paper sure did.

Stella goes to Doc’s office and says she hopes she’s not interrupting. He says, nothing too important. What can he do for her? She says she was hoping to pick his brain, and he says, pick away. She asks if he ever encountered a psychiatrist by the name of Paul Braddock. He practiced out of Baltimore, but from what she gathers, he was fairly well known. Doc tells her, you could say that.

Alexis says she had nothing to do with that, and Diane asks, is The Invader not her publication? Alexis says, Diane seems to have forgotten she has a new publisher, who has shoved a gossip columnist right down her throat. She hasn’t seen anything about that. Diane says, she might want to start reading it. She assumes Alexis is going to print a retraction tomorrow. Alexis asks what Diane wants her to say, that she’s not a natural redhead? and Diane fake laughs. Alexis says she has something Diane might be happier about, and Diane says, thrill me. Alexis says, Nina has forbidden them to mention Sonny at all. Nada. Zip. Not a word. So Diane’s number one client is officially off limits. Diane asks if the woman has a single redeeming quality, and Alexis says, Diane tells her that like she’s going to follow Nina’s orders, and Diane says, a lawyer can dream, can’t she? Alexis says, she means a redheaded mob lawyer, and Diane fake laughs again.

Josslyn says, what if she told Dex that she’s coming with him? and he says he’d tell her that she was lying to him, but mostly to herself. her family is way too important to her. And that’s a good thing. He wishes he felt that way about his. She says, he’s important to her, but he says, that’s different. She says, yes. She loves her family, but she’s in love with him. He says he loves her too, so much. He’s never said that to anyone before. That’s why he wants what’s best for her and that can’t be him. She asks if it’s Sonny he’s worried about. If it’s that, she might be able to protect him. She’ll talk to her mom; her mom can talk to him. She knows they’re not together, and she knows they’ve been through it, but she has the feeling Sonny will still listen to her. He says, what if it’s already too late? when there’s a knock at the door. Josslyn says, what if what’s too late? and there’s another knock. She says she’ll get it and opens the door to Nina. She asks if Nina is looking for more backs to stab. Sorry. She’s fresh out.

Marshall says, it was nice watching Curtis work so hard, putting all this work into his recovery, and Curtis says, don’t do that. His recovery is quantifiable. If he does his exercises, he’ll be back on his feet sooner, but that wasn’t the same for Marshall. Marshall says, their situations are different. Does he know what that difference is? Marshall ran and gave up. Curtis didn’t. Stella comes in and says, working hard or hardly working? and Marshall says, she knows her nephew can’t stop, won’t stop. Curtis asks if she located Dr. Braddock, and she sighs. He asks, what’s wrong? and she says she’s got good news and bad news. Which do they want first? Marshall says, bad, and she says, Dr. Braddock died just before Christmas. Marshall says, they won’t find him mourning the man, and Curtis says, no one would expect him to. Marshall says he knew all this searching stuff would lead to nothing, and Curtis says, Stella told them that she had good news too. She says, the answers they’ve been searching for aren’t hiding in Baltimore. They’re right upstairs in this hospital.

Laura shows Heather, pictures of Ace on her phone, and Heather says, look how big he’s getting. Laura says, baby today, Mayor of Port Charles tomorrow, and Heather asks if Laura thinks he’ll follow in her footsteps. Laura says she doesn’t know what he’ll grow up to be, and Heather says, better Laura’s path than hers. That is for sure. All this went so wrong. When? How? Besides this metallosis stuff, what happened to her? Laura says she doesn’t know. If it makes Heather feel any better, she feels like she’s lived a few different lives, and sometimes she can’t always connect the dots between them. Heather says, that’s exactly it. It’s so random, so disjointed. Sometimes she feels like she’s in freefall, and the only thing worse than the fall itself is the ground rushing up to meet her. Laura asks if Heather knows the upside to having gotten it all wrong, and Heather says she didn’t know there was an upside. Laura says, there’s still time for her to get it right. (Do I smell a contract in Heather’s future?)

Nina asks if Dex is here, and Josslyn says she doesn’t know. She asks Dex if he’s here, and he comes to the door. Talking at lightning speed, Nina asks if he can relay a message to Sonny. She had no idea The Invader was going to run that story about him today. She’s only been running that newspaper for a very short time, and they don’t run anything by her. Josslyn says she doesn’t think she’s ever seen Sonny read a newspaper, and Dex says, he has not. But Sonny’s very well informed. He just gets his news through other means. Josslyn says, okay, great. So Nina’s in the clear. Okay. Bye. Nina puts her hand on the door and says, hold on. Is Dex going somewhere? Is Sonny going somewhere? Is Dex accompanying him as his guard? Josslyn says, first of all, that’s none of Nina’s business, and second of all, Dex is through with Sonny. Kind of like how Sonny’s through with Nina. Nina says, she is her mother’s daughter, and Josslyn says, and proud of it. Nina says she sees what’s happening here. Dex broke up with Sonny. And that can only mean Josslyn is next.

Alexis says she hates complaining, and Diane says, and yet… Alexis says, the newspaper business is… How does she phrase this? Diane says, miserable? and Alexis says, yes. In general, nobody reads anymore. They scroll. Specifically, it’s this place. It’s this publisher. She’s dishing gossip to make Nina Reeves happy. Who is she? What has she become? Diane says, that’s a rhetorical question? and Alexis says she’d take up the law again for free if it meant giving up this nasty job. Diane says, really? In that case, she has a proposal for Alexis. One that will get her out of this place and away from Nina Reeves for good.

Looking over Finn’s shoulder, Gregory says, the semi-colon should be a period. There are no semi-colons in newspapers. Finn says, noted, and makes the change. Handing Finn a paper, Gregory says, here’s the web address for The Invader worksite. He can post it there. Finn says, this is the password? and Gregory says, yeah. Finn says, all right, and types. There you go. His final article has been uploaded. Gregory says, excellent, and Finn asks if he wants to stick around and have lunch. He knows it’s not the MetroCourt, but the turkey chili is pretty decent. Gregory says, thanks, but he thinks he’ll get home. Try to squeeze in a nap before Violet gets home from school. He thanks Finn again for this, and Finn thanks him for everything. Gregory says he’s not done quite yet, and Finn says, better not be. Gregory says, see him at home? and Finn says, see him at home, and Gregory leaves.

On the phone Finn thanks Boden for getting back to him. Where did they send him this time?… Wow. He heard all hell’s breaking loose there. He realizes his timing is terrible, so he’ll make it quick. His dad’s been diagnosed with ALS… He thanks Boden and says he appreciates that. He knows the course of the disease is different with every patient. It seems to be accelerating with him, and Boden is the best neurologist he’s ever worked with, so he wants to know if Boden has anything. He doesn’t even know what he’s looking for. He thinks a little magic at this point, but… No, he knows the drill. Go save some lives and stay safe. He puts the phone down.

Diane tells Alexis that she doesn’t want to take another hit piece like that gossip columnist just leveled at her. She’s a phenomenal lawyer. Alexis says, Diane isn’t going to get any argument from her, and Diane says, also, she’ hates to think she’s the kind of person who cares what people think of her, but her reputation matters. And she doesn’t want anybody out there thinking she only takes cases for mob money. That’s not why she got into the law in the first place. Alexis asks, why did she? and Diane says she’s going to assume for the same reasons Alexis got in. To be of service. To strive for justice… even if the definition of justice seems to vary a little bit between her and Alexis. Alexis asks if Diane wants her to write a puff piece, but Diane says she just wants Alexis to zip it. Pay attention. Come work with her. Alexis laughs and says, as what? Her receptionist? Diane says, no, as her very esteemed, every other day, colleague. And if Alexis is very good and very nice to her, at some point soon, her partner. Alexis says she thinks Diane is forgetting the small matter of her disbarment. She’s not able to practice law anymore. Diane tells her, says who? and Alexis says, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. It was a swift and decisive ruling, she might add. Diane says, and it’s a ruling she’s betting she can get overturned.

Nina says, now that they’ve established that Josslyn is a chip off the old Carly block, she bets the only secrets Josslyn likes are the ones she keeps herself. Dex says, that’s enough, get out, but Josslyn says, no. What does Nina mean? Nina says, she should really aim that question to her boyfriend, and Josslyn asks Dex what she’s talking about. Nina tells him, don’t be shy. Tell Josslyn about the day she caught him dressed as an orderly coming out of Cyrus Renault’s hospital room.

The guard says, remember, no funny business, and Heather says, there’s nothing funny about surgery if you ask her. There’s paperwork on the tray in front of her, and she asks, who’s got a pen? Laura asks if she’d like Dr. Enoch to go over the procedure with her one more time in layman’s terms before she signs, but Heather says, no. It’s not necessary. Laura thinks she should do this? That’s good enough for her. Portia gives her a pen, and Heather says, gracias, doctore. She signs, and Portia says, they’ll submit her consent and get the ball rolling. Heather holds up her arm, and Portia says, yes, of course (🍷), locking the cuff again. Dr. Enoch says, they’ll talk soon, and leaves with Portia and the guard. Heather asks Laura, what’s Doc like in bed? And Laura says, excuse me? Heather says she was just wondering if there were any similarities with Ryan in that department, and Laura says she thought they were getting along so well. Heather says, they were. They are. Laura tells her, have a good day, and leaves. Heather wonders what she said.

Stella, Marshall, and Curtis sit in Doc’s office, and Doc says he understands Marshall was a patient of Dr. Paul Braddock. Marshall says, once upon a time, yes. He takes it Doc has heard of him. Doc says, he made quite a name for himself, and Curtis says, is this guy famous or something? Doc says, some might go with infamous, and Marshall says, he’s the one who diagnosed him with schizophrenia. Doc says, Stella told him, and Marshall says, gave him all these dire warnings about how it might progress, how he might hurt himself or his family, and the shame it would bring upon them if that happened. He was so scared, he left his boys and let his wife and Stella raise them without him. But none of it was true. Doc says, Marshall didn’t have what Dr. Braddock said he did, and Marshall asks, what would make a doctor tell him that he was schizophrenic when he wasn’t? Doc tells him that he can’t say for certain, and Marshall says, guess. Curtis asks if Doc won’t please help them out. They need answers. Doc says he believes Marshall was misdiagnosed because he was young, male, poor, angry, and Black.

On Monday, Doc says, Marshall just correctly diagnosed his misdiagnosis; Alexis asks Diane what any of this has to do with her; Olivia wonders if she should be relieved or terrified; and Nina asks Ava to advocate for her.

General Hospital

Sonny says, to protecting our own, and clinks glasses with Nina and Ava. He asks Austin, what’s wrong? Does he have a problem with the toast?

As the doctor pokes at Curtis’s legs, TJ asks what he feels, but Curtis says he doesn’t feel a thing. He can’t feel anything. None of them seem surprised that he can’t feel his legs. Will somebody tell him what the hell is going on? He shouts, what’s going on?!

Diane walks into the hospital on the phone, and says she’s literally walking in the door… Don’t worry. She’ll find Sasha and take care of everything. Leaning on the counter, Robert says, everything? That’s a tall order, even for Killer Miller.

Sasha is wheeled out of the elevator, and Gladys says, she’s going to get better. She knows it doesn’t look like it, but she promises to do everything she can to get Sasha all the help she needs. Dr. Montague comes out and says he knows how upsetting this must be for Gladys, but he’s here now. He asks if Sasha remembers him. He’s Dr. Montague, and he’s here to help her. She says, help her? and he says, she’s not herself right now, but he promises she will be soon. He’ll make sure of that. He asks the officer to take Sasha to the exam room, and the officer leaves with Sasha. Gladys says, he never told her that Sasha would get this bad, but Montague says, her daughter-in-law is much worse off than she led him to believe. Gladys asks what he gave her. She hurt somebody. It’s lucky she didn’t kill him. And she’s in so much pain now. She never meant for Sasha to suffer… He says, shut up. They both know what she meant to happen. She did her part; now he’ll do his. He goes into the exam room, and closes the door. Gladys looks at Sasha through the window, and Montague closes the blinds.

Carly visits Drew in Pentenville, and says she knows she promised she wouldn’t visit so soon, but he says he’s glad she did. She says she knows he wanted to feel more settled, but she had to see him. She misses him so much. He says he misses her, and she says, here she is. He says, she looks so beautiful, even in a place like this, and she says, she talked to Sam. Scout’s determined to visit him ASAP. He says, she knows how Scout is when she sets her mind to something; you can’t change it. The last time he was locked in a cell, he etched her name in the wall, and that’s what kept him alive, but now he has so much more to live for. She says, this place is better than Crete, right? and he flashes back to Cyrus giving him a Bible with a screwdriver in it. Carly asks, what’s wrong?

At the pool, Dex tells Josslyn, other people were at the pool when the shooting happened. Anna Devane for one, and the police are even certain Curtis wasn’t the target. She says she’s certain. Curtis was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The bullet was meant for Sonny. It could have been Dex. He says, no, but she says, he already got shot working for Sonny. What’s to say it won’t happen again? He says, because now he has more to live for. He’s never loved anyone as much as he loves her. He’s not going to give that up. They kiss.

TJ says, Curtis has every right to be concerned, and Portia says, TJ is right, but he doesn’t want to put too much stress on himself right now. That’s going to make it… Curtis says, stop. He can’t feel his legs. He needs them to stop talking to him like family. They’re doctors and he’s a patient. Why can’t he feel his legs? Dr. Barnsdall says he understands why Curtis is so concerned, but he’s just come through very extensive spinal surgery. Curtis is lucky to be alive. The bullet fragments he removed were lodged very close to Curtis’s spine. He was under very heavy sedation during the procedure. Every patient’s body reacts differently when that wears off. Curtis says, so the anesthesia is why he can’t feel his legs? and the doctor says, that’s one of the possibilities. Curtis says, cut it to him straight. What are the other possibilities? Dr. Barnsdall says he still needs to look at some of the other tests and scans they took after the surgery, and then he’ll better be able to answer some of Curtis’s questions. He’ll leave Curtis with his family now. The doctor leaves with the nurse, and TJ asks if Curtis heard what Dr. Barnsdall said. Very few people would have even survived that surgery. Portia says, if Aunt Stella were here, she thinks Stella would call it a miracle, and Curtis says, a miracle.

Diane tells Robert that she’s here to see her client Sasha Gilmore. Yes, she knows Sasha was recently represented by Martin Grey, but he asked her to take over when he was called away. He asks if Martin is going to be back, and she says, he is, but Maxie felt Sasha needed… He says, a killer shark, but she says, compassion and complete dedication. She will take care of everything. She knows why he’s here, and no, he won’t interrogate her client in her current state.

Gladys tells the guard that her daughter-in-law is not a criminal. He saw how gentle she was. She just needs a little psychological help, that’s all. He looks straight ahead like a guard at Buckingham Palace, and she says, oh God, and walks away.

Sasha says she knows he’s Dr. Montague, and he says, very good. Does she know why she’s here? She says, for more of those pills he gave her? but he says, no. Those pills would have helped her, but he warned her not to take too many. She says she only took three pills a day like he told her, and as he prepares a syringe, she notices blood on her clothes. He says, soon, all of her questions will be answered, and she sees the syringe. She asks, what’s that? No. He gives her the shot.

Austin says he really respects Sonny. Sonny is a powerful man and puts such a high value on family. Sonny says, nothing more important than family, and Austin says, absolutely. Let him try to put Sonny’s mind at ease. He hasn’t spent a lot of time with Avery, but the little time he’s spent with her, she’s lovely. He thinks she looks at him and sees him as not just her mom’s friend, but maybe her friend as well. Sonny says, Avery sees the good in everybody, and Austin says, that’s wonderful. He wonders if she got that from Ava, or is it a trait she inherited from Sonny? Sonny says he always gives people another chance, and Austin says, just the one? What happens when people disappoint him? Sonny asks, what happens when Austin loses a patient? and Austin says he thinks he can speak for every doctor in the world when he says, it’s hard to lose a patient. Sonny says, you’ve just got to move forward. It’s sad, but some people are beyond helping. You’ve just got to move on.

Portia says, please talk to them, and Curtis says he understands what the doctor was saying. He’s lucky to be alive, and he’s grateful for everything everyone at the hospital has done for him. But he wants to walk out of the hospital on his own, and that’s not going to happen. TJ tells him, that’s not what Dr. Barnsdall said, and Curtis says, yet. Portia says, no one can walk right after spinal surgery, and TJ says, Portia’s right. People going through the same kind of surgery, it can take weeks before they can walk. Curtis asks, how long before they can feel their legs again? when TJ gets paged, and Curtis tells him to go. He knows TJ has a job to do. TJ says he’ll be back as soon as he can, and leaves. Portia takes Curtis’s hand, and says, it’s going to be okay, and he says, yes, it will. As soon as he gets his life back. All of it.

Robert says he takes no pleasure in Sasha’s current predicament, but Cody Bell’s the real victim here, and Diane says, come on. They both know there was no intent. Sasha never meant to hurt the guy. He says, she stabbed him with a paring knife, and Diane says, it’s well-documented that Sasha hasn’t been herself since losing her baby and her husband. And might she point out, Heather Webber killed Sasha’s husband and came perilously close to killing yours truly, so she would think he’d have more… He says he’s not there to persecute her client, and she says, good. Why is he here? He says, after Maxie spoke to her, she called her Uncle Robert. She says, so Maxie asked him to look out for Sasha to make sure she was treated fairly, and he says, who’d have thunk it? Her and him on the same team. They get into the elevator together, and bump shoulders.

Sasha scrubs at the blood, and says she can’t get this off, but Montague says, don’t worry about that. He sets up a recorder, and says, they’ll take care of that later. Now tell him what she remembers. She says, there was a pool, and he says, what happened at the pool? She says, Gladys was there… and he grabbed her by the wrist. She flashes back to seeing Cyrus grab Gladys, and tells Montague, she saw him. He tried to ruin her life. He gave her drugs. Montague asks who she thinks she saw at the pool, and she says she knows she saw him. He grabbed Gladys and she knew she had to stop him. She had to stop Cyrus Renault.

Carly says she doesn’t understand. Cyrus is a murderer. She assumed Drew would be separated from people like him. Where did Drew run into him? Drew says, Cyrus found him. Cyrus wants to make him a fisher of men. She says, Cyrus Renault? and he says, what good is a messiah complex without disciples he’s recruiting? She asks if he told Cyrus to go to hell. Better yet, he has to tell the guards. They don’t know what kind of sick game Cyrus is playing, but Drew has to stay away from him. Drew doesn’t want to get on his bad side. He says she doesn’t have to worry about him, but she says, he just told her some maniac has him in their sights, and he doesn’t want her worrying about him? He says he’s got this; he can take care of himself. Cyrus knows not to make a move on him. She says she knows all the training he’s had, but he doesn’t know how many men Cyrus has under his control. He can’t fight everyone. He says, it’s okay, but she says, it’s not okay. He says, it’s taken care of, and she says, how, and by whom? He says, her ex-husband.

Ava says, Sonny is incorrigible, and tells Austin that his bark is far worse than his bite. Sonny says, the doctor knows he was joking, right? and they all laugh. Austin’s phone rings, and he asks them to excuse him. Sonny asks if there’s a problem, but Austin says, occupational hazard. He’ll be right back. He leaves, and Ava says, all right. Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Austin is awkward, but very nice and there’s some kind of chemistry there, but as a couple, she doesn’t really see it. I’m glad she said it, since I’ve been thinking it.

Outside on the phone, Austin tells someone, you could say that. It was super awkward. A lunatic walks into a restaurant and he’s with Sonny Corinthos. Not great. He guesses the question is, what’s Mason going to do about it?

TJ asks if Dr. Barnsdall reviewed all of Curtis’s latest test results, and the doctor says he did, and the final scans they took after Curtis’s surgery. TJ says, will his uncle ever be able to walk again?

Carly says, Sonny has people watching Drew’s back, and Drew says, she doesn’t sound completely surprised. She says, vintage Sonny, and Drew says, to protect him? She says, Sonny knows he’s a good guy, and deep down he knows Drew is good for her. She and Sonny will always be family, and at the end of the day, nothing’s more important to Sonny than family. He asks if this is Sonny’s way of welcoming him into the family, and she laughs, saying, she wouldn’t go that far. She just wants him to come home. Nothing’s more important. He says he’s working on it. So what else is going on? She says, Willow came home, and he says, that’s great. She says, the only reason Willow is okay is because he rescued Liesl. The only reason Willow’s okay is because of him. He says he’s just happy she’s home where she belongs. Are they planning a big party at the house for her already?… What’s going on? Carly says, nothing, but he says he knows her. He loves her. Tell him what it is.

Portia says, what Curtis needs right now is rest, and she’ll be right back. He doesn’t let go of her hand, and says, what he needs is her here. He also needs to tell her something before the doctor gets back. She says, they’ll have plenty of time to talk later, but he says, she’s wrong. Time is the one thing we’re never sure we have. When he came to find her at the pool, he’d just had a conversation with Sam, and she said something he didn’t think was important at the time. And now, he can’t forget it. Portia asks what she said, and he tells her, she said, you never have enough time with the people you love, and she’s right. He realized how much time he was wasting and came to find her. He’s not sorry he went to the pool looking for her, but he’s sorry he didn’t get to say what he wanted to say.

Robert and Diane come out of the elevator, and Gladys says, her daughter-in-law is in no condition to be hounded by lawyers right now. Diane says, Gladys might be Sasha’s guardian, but she’s not Sasha’s gatekeeper. She’s assuming Sasha is in the exam room. Gladys says, she’s getting the treatment she needs from her shrink, and Robert says, he’ll handle this. He goes over to the guard, and Gladys says she’s sure Diane means well, but Sasha is in pretty bad shape. If Diane makes her more upset, she swears she’ll… Diane asks, what will she do? Word to the wise; never, ever threaten her. Robert tells Diane, ten minutes max, and Diane asks Gladys to excuse her.

Sasha says, he was going to hurt Gladys like he hurt her, and she couldn’t let that happen. So she saw the knife, and… Diane walks in, and says, Sasha, stop right there. Not one more word. And you – she looks at Montague – turn off that recording device right now. He grabs it and shuts it off.

Ava says, she and Austin have only had a few dates. Of course (🍷) Nina doesn’t see them as a couple. Nina says, on the plus side, he’s nothing like Nikolas, and Ava says, that’s for sure. He is very… Nina says, alive, and Ava says, what? Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Ava and Nikolas had some connection and chemistry, but Nikolas always seemed like he was brooding. He was always serious all the time to her. At least Austin is mysteriously… expressive. Ava says, he’s definitely more alive, and Sonny says, he’s very attentive to his patients, because earlier, that guy Gordon was hostile. Austin could have blown him off, but he took the time to deal with the problem. Nina asks, what happened when Sonny went out after him? and Sonny says he’s pretty sure that Austin’s patient understands the situation. Austin comes back, and Ava says, Sonny was just complementing his bedside manner. Sonny’s phone rings, and he tells Gladys that he’s in the middle of something. Gladys says, it’s Sasha. She’s been arrested. Sonny asks, what the hell for? and Gladys says, she’s getting a psyche evaluation at GH right now. Sonny says he’ll be right there, and Nina asks, what’s going on? He says, Sasha’s in trouble. He has to go to GH. Nina says she’s going with him, and tells Ava and Austin that she’s so sorry. Ava says, no, go, and Sonny and Nina leave. Ava says, disaster averted, for now, and eats her martini olives off the stirrer.

Josslyn puts suntan lotion (I think… I hope) on Dex, when his phone rings. She says, don’t answer it, but he says, she knows he has to. Sonny says he knows it’s Dex’s day off. Something came up. Dex asks what he needs and Sonny says, surveillance. Port Charles Grill. Austin Gatlin-Holt.

Portia says she loves the sentiment, she really does, but is Curtis saying if he hadn’t spoken to Sam, he wouldn’t… He says, it’s done. They’re here. And what he wants her to know right now is, whatever happens, his feelings for her won’t change. And once he’s back on his feet… She says, and he will be, but she needs him to listen to his doctors… and his wife. She just wants him to relax and let his body heal as long as possible. He says he’s feeling stronger by the minute, and she says, good. That’s what she likes to hear. She has to check on a patient really quickly, but she promises she’ll be right back. She leaves, and cries in the hallway. Curtis pinches his leg, and sighs.

Dr. Barnsdall shows TJ his tablet, and says, they were successful in removing the bullet and every fragment. TJ says, Dr. Barnsdall always does good work, but was it enough?

Carly says, there’s nothing for Drew to worry about, but he says, something is going on. Is it the financial penalty from the SEC? She says she can handle it. She doesn’t want him to even think about it. He says he doesn’t want her thinking about it. That was a huge fine. He doesn’t want this weighing her down along with everything else. It’s really simple. He can sell Aurora. She says, no, he can’t. Diane made it crystal clear that she can’t accept anything from him, Michael, or Sonny. She could be hit with an even bigger fine, or worse. He says, Diane knows what she’s talking about. Did she come up with a Plan B? Carly says, she did, and Diane told her it’s going to take a while, but it doesn’t matter because she has resources. He says, tell him she’s not selling the house, and she says, the house is too big for them. He says, it’s not just the house, it’s ~~the moss bowl’s~~🎍 her home, and she says, the home she had with Sonny. She has a lot of great memories of the kids growing up there, but those memories aren’t going away because she sells the house. She wants to focus on the future, and getting him out of here and sharing that future with him. No piece of real estate is going to change that. Life is too fragile to wait around. You think you have everything under control, and think the people you love are safe, then just like that… He says, what happened?

Dex puts his shirt on, and Josslyn asks if he really has to go. It’s his day off. What could be so important? He says, it’s no big deal. Nothing dangerous. Just a little surveillance. He kisses her, and she says, if it’s not important, why can’t they go back to his place right now? and he says, it’s not that he doesn’t want that. He made a choice when he decided to work for Sonny. She says she thought she was the choice he made, and he says, the best ever; the most important ever. But now he needs to go to work, and she – he takes a book out of their beach bag – needs to finish that mystery. The minute this job is done, he promises… She kisses him, and he says he promises. I gotta say it. I think she’s too immature for him.

Austin says he can’t tell. Did Sonny think he was okay, or does Sonny hate him? Ava shrugs and says she doesn’t know, but when he decides, believe her, Austin will know. He asks how she thinks it went, but she says she doesn’t know. Sonny plays things so close to the vest, but when it comes to Avery, he’s not going to take any chances. Austin says, Sonny has nothing to worry about with him and Avery. He loves kids. Ava says, that’s good, because Sonny said something he really meant; family is everything. He lives by that. Austin asks if he’s like that with all her lovers.

Gladys thanks Sonny for coming, and Sonny asks Robert, where’s Sasha? Robert says, she’s in there, indicating the exam room. Diane’s with her.

Montague says, how dare Diane barge in here and interrupt while he’s evaluating a patient. Get out! Diane says she’s not going anywhere. She’s Diane Miller, and she’s Sasha’s attorney. And that trumps his title any day of the week, and don’t turn that recorder on again. She gently asks if Sasha remembers her, and Sasha says, Diane. Diane says she’s Sasha’s attorney. She helped Sasha once before, and she’s going to help her again. Sasha tells her, Dr. Montague said… but Diane says, no. She doesn’t need to pay any attention to Dr. Montague. Just look right at her and she doesn’t say one more word. Montague says, unfortunately, Diane is a little too late. Sasha already told him more than enough.

Nina tells Gladys, this doesn’t make any sense. Why would Sasha stab Cody Bell? Gladys says, it was obvious she wasn’t herself. She would never hurt anyone. Something made her do it. Sonny says, like what? What made her do it?

Alone in the office, TJ yells, dammit! and pounds the desk with his fist. Portia walks in and says, no. He walks over to her, and she tells him, please don’t say it. She cries as he hugs her.

Gladys says she’s not a shrink. How would she know what’s wrong with Sasha? First there was the shoplifting, now she stabs Cody? Nina’s own journalist was there; she saw the whole thing. Nina says she talked to Alyse. She said it came out of nowhere. It doesn’t make any sense. When she was on Home & Heart, and someone did that horrible mind game on her, she handled it. Sonny says he saw her a few weeks ago and told her that she was ready to be on her own; to end Gladys’s guardianship. What changed?

Montague and Diane step away from Sasha, and he says, the police brought Miss Gilmore in for a psyche evaluation. As her lawyer, he’s sure Diane knows what that entails, what his responsibilities are. He’s sorry, but at this point, his hands are tied.

Robert tells Gladys, Sonny, and Nina that he just got off a call from Judge Palmer… Diane joins them and says, please, let her tell them. Sasha needs help. She’s being sent to Ferncliff Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Oh yeah, Ferncliff. We haven’t seen that place for a while.

Ava says she needs to make something very clear, she and Austin aren’t a couple, and they’re definitely not lovers. He says, what happened at Windymere… She says, means nothing. They’re nothing. She had a little moment of weakness. She’s regretted it ever since. He says he’s only regretted they haven’t done it again, and she says, he has an inflated opinion – he rubs her leg under the table – of his sexual prowess. And she assumes as a doctor – she picks up her knife – he has a need for that hand creeping up her thigh. He says, she wouldn’t, and she just looks at him. He removes his hand, and says, she didn’t answer his question. Sonny is a jealous guy? She says, Sonny doesn’t care who she sleeps with, as long as it doesn’t negatively impact Avery. He says, good to know. He assumes she sang his praises when he was away from the table, and she says, what praises might those be? His gymnastics in bed. He says, thank you, and she says, his willingness to help bury dead husbands? She told Sonny as little as possible about him; only what she thought he’d actually believe. He says, then how come he didn’t buy it?

Drew asks, what happened? and Carly says, Curtis was shot. Drew says, is he… She says, no. He’s in the hospital. He asks, how bad was it? and she says, it was touch and go. She heard this morning he’s out of surgery, he’s in recovery, but she doesn’t know his condition. Drew says, who shot him? and she says, they don’t know. It was at the MetroCourt pool. He asks if anyone else was hurt, and she says, no, luckily. He says he doesn’t get it. Who would want to kill Curtis? She says, the PCPD isn’t sure he was the target.

Curtis unsuccessfully tries to move his legs. In the hallway, Portia wipes the tears from her cheeks and puts on a smile. She goes into his room, and says, told him that she wouldn’t be long. He says he’s glad she’s back. Could she make sure they schedule a therapy session for him as soon as possible? She says, it’s way too soon for something like that, but he says, it’s never too soon. He’s not going to sit here in this bed and wait for another miracle. He knows it’s going to take hard work, but he’s here for it. Because no matter what it takes, he’s going to walk and stand up on his own two legs. Who knows? Someday, he might take her in his arms and they can dance the night away again. What does she think about that? She says she absolutely loves it. There’s something she wants to tell him. He asks, what’s wrong? and she says, Dr. Barnsdall got the latest tests and scans back and he consulted with three other surgeons, and none of them think he’ll be able to walk again.

Carly says she’s sorry. As soon as she gets any information about Curtis, she’ll get it to Drew. He thanks her, and says, she told him Portia was with Curtis. Does she know who else was out there? She says, his attorney Zeke, Jordan Ashford… Dante, Anna, and Sonny. He says, Curtis is such a good man. They’d better find out who did this. A guard says, time’s up, and Carly says she’ll come back as soon as she can. Seeing him makes everything better. He says he loves her, and she says she loves him, and leaves after taking a last look.

Portia says, doctors have been wrong before, and this isn’t a death sentence. They almost lost him for good, and Dr. Barnsdall said there’s no reason he can’t live an absolutely… Curtis says, stop. Just stop. She says, but they all love him. No matter what. He says he needs some time, and she says, of course (🍷). Of course (🍷) he does. He says, alone, and she says she understands. She leaves, and stands in the hallway crying, when TJ sees her. In his room, Curtis looks lonely.

Josslyn reads her book, when her phone rings. She says, hello?… This is Josslyn Jax. Who’s this?… Excuse me?… What are you talking about?

Ava says, Sonny rarely makes snap judgements, but when he does, look out, and Austin says, so she doesn’t think Sonny’s judged him yet. She says, probably not, but she thinks she managed to convince him that he has nothing to worry about with Austin spending time around Avery. Austin says, he’s not the only one who can read people. And he gets the distinct feeling Sonny is on to them. Dex listens from the bar.

Cyrus sits on a couch reading, and looks up to see Drew.

Sasha is wheeled out, and Nina says, it’s horrible. Diane promises Nina that she’ll fight this tooth and nail. Gladys says, she’s going to a good place, right? and Montague says, that’s exactly where her daughter-in-law should be. She’ll get all the help she needs. Isn’t that what they all want? General Hospital

Finn comes downstairs, telling Elizabeth that her shower has great water pressure, and she says, Franco had just put in a new head. Sometimes it’s like he’s still here, all around us. Finn says, or so someone wants her to believe.

Sasha tells Brando, it’s so beautiful here; so peaceful. She doesn’t want to go back to the real world. She doesn’t want this trip to end. He says he wishes he could give her that, but what he can try to do, is make the real world just as special. She asks how he plans on doing that, and he says he’s planning on spending the rest of his life with her. She says, let’s do it, and he says, do what? She says, let’s get married – today. He says, they’ll just elope somewhere… She’s not kidding, is she? She says, the aisles, the I dos, the ring, the works. The two of them going to the chapel. He says, today? and she says, today. He says he doesn’t know what to say, and she says, here’s a hint; say yes.

As she shows Curtis and Portia the house, Lucy says, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, high end finishes everywhere, state of the art appliances, and – wait for it – your own dock. The lot is so private, they have no neighbors close by, and total waterfront access. Portia asks if the dock comes with a yacht, and Lucy says, sorry. Luxury watercraft sold separately. Portia says, good, because that would make it just a little too good to be true. Lucy says, it is too good to be true; this place is amazing. She just needs to mention one little thing. A smokin’ hot legal eagle divulged to her that a certain don is also in the market for new digs.

Carly waits for the elevator at the MetroCourt to open, and when it does, Sonny is there. He asks if it’s okay that he’s here, and she says, yeah. It’s a public place. She’ll make sure the hostess gets him a seat. He says he doesn’t need a table. He’s just here to see her. She says, they talked about this, and he says, it’s not about them. It’s about today. She says, it’s about Courtney.

Spencer puts flowers on his mother’s grave, and Trina walks through the cemetery. She asks what he’s doing out of Spring Ridge, and he says, it’s a long story. Is she alone? She asks, why? Is he planning on taking her hostage while he makes his getaway? He asks if she liked her gift, and she says, that’s what he wants to talk about right now? She guesses they’ll cover the jailbreak later. He says, excuse him for being glad to see her. Please tell him she’s not with anyone. She says, anyone who might rat him out… besides her?

Professor Kahn asks her disrupted class what’s more important than the lesson, and one of the students says, see for herself. He puts the video of Cameron and Josslyn having sex up on the screen at the front of the classroom. Everyone laughs, including Esme, and Josslyn says, turn it off. Kahn says, yes, of course (🍷), and yells to the kid to turn it off.

Portia says, Lucy really has a handle on all the details. Between her real estate career and Deception, how does she keep it all straight? Lucy says, it’s crazy, but she doesn’t mind it. She’s waiting for the impending IPO for Deception to come through. Then maybe she can let go of one of her two revenue streams, but until then, she’s not letting go of her precious leads. Portia says she appreciates Lucy showing them the place, and Lucy says, of course (🍷). Jax called her right away, and said he wanted to put the property back on the market. She didn’t want them to miss out. She couldn’t live with herself. She thinks it’s the perfect spot to start a family.

Sasha says, surprised? and Brando says, maybe a little. Don’t they need a license? She says, people elope all the time. They can hop on a plane to Vegas and get it. He says, she wants to go to Vegas? and she says they don’t have to. Niagara Falls is right here, and it’s notorious for quickie weddings. He asks if she’s not going to regret rushing this. None of their friends will be there, no family. She says she’s sure they’ll get an earful from them, but it’s fine with her, and he says, Niagara Falls it is then. She says, good, because he’s her family. He’s all the family she needs.

Kahn tells everyone to calm down, and says, clearly, they’re not going to get anything more done today, making me again wonder if this is really college. She tells them to look up a case for the next class, and dismisses them. Josslyn tells Kahn that she doesn’t know what to say, and Kahn tells her, she doesn’t have to say anything. Allow her to apologize. Cameron says, for what? and she says, one, for not thinking faster, and closing the video for the laptop, and two, for losing control of the situation. She’s so sorry everyone had to see it. Brian, the student who chose to share it with the room, will be disciplined. Having said that, she advises them to keep better track of their intimate personal files.

Spencer says, Trina’s not going to get in trouble, and she asks if he’s on a jail field trip, or did Spring Ridge let him out early for good behavior? He says, how would she know if he’s been well-behaved? It’s not like she visited. She says, first of all, his sentence is 30 days, and he says, it’s still prison. She says, secondly, and most important, do not make this about her. She’s not the one who snuck out of country club jail to tool around some old cemetery. He says, this is where his mother is buried, and she says, it is? He points to Courtney’s gravestone, and says, this is her grave, and visiting her on the anniversary of her death isn’t exactly his idea of tooling around. She says she didn’t realize it was today, and he says, it’s the first time in years he’s visited her in person. He sent sunflowers every year when he was in school. Even though he was away, he could feel her presence, not that it stopped him from completely screwing up his life. She says, at least now he’s making an effort to clean up his act, jailbreak notwithstanding. He says, he actually is. It’s just that this day, of all days, he wanted his mother to know that. So is Trina ever going to visit him or what? She hesitates, and they hear something. He says, don’t give him up. If anyone finds him here, they’ll send him straight to Pentenville. He ducks behind some bushes, and Trina sits on a bench, taking out her phone. Jordan walks by, and says, Trina.

Carly asks if Sonny would like a drink. It feels like a bloody Mary kind of day. He says, actually, he’s trying not to drink too much these days, and she says, that’s good. She’s sure Courtney would be happy about that. He says, Carly misses her, and Carly says, the MetroCourt is named after her; she thinks about Courtney every day. Courtney was her best friend. Best friends are hard to come by nowadays. He says he knows how she feels, and she says, does he really? He says, maybe this was a mistake; he’ll just go. She says, he can stay, and he says, he just thought Courtney was something they could share together. She says, they’re always going to be connected, and he says, yeah, through the kids. She says, they have a history together. They had a life together, and he still thinks Courtney is a good enough reason to seek her out. He asks what she’s saying, and she tells him that she’s saying it hurts when she sees him, so she should see him less.

Brando says, Sasha is his family too, but it’s so sudden. They never really discussed marriage… under their current circumstances. She flashes back to them saying goodbye to Liam, and says she knows they haven’t discussed marriage specifically, but they were planning a life together and know what they mean to each other. Unless… Have his feelings about her or them being together changed? He says, no, they’ve only gotten stronger, and she says, he doesn’t seem 100% sure. He says, it’s more like he feels like he missed an episode. He’s not opposed to them getting married, but there’s one thing he doesn’t understand. Why now?

Finn gives Elizabeth some coffee, and asks how she slept. She says she tossed and turned all night. And him? How’s the couch? He pats the couch, and says, they’re old pals by now, although it did take a moment for him to turn his head off. She says, this is going to sound crazy, but did he feel like he was being watched? Because she did. He says, not exactly, but he knows what she means. Finding out Betsy wasn’t behind all this was unsettling. She tells him, to say the least, and he says, so he stayed up most of the night trying to solve the problem, but her trouble sleeping has been going on for a while. She asks, what gave her away? The circles under her eyes? He says, they’re beautiful. He wonders if she’s spoken to her GP about maybe taking something, and she says she has and she is, but she doesn’t want to take anything stronger. She just really needs to turn her screens off earlier. He says, don’t they all? and asks if they boys are okay. She tells him, they say they are. Not that they would tell her if they weren’t. They’re all about projecting strength. He says, they’re worried about their mom, and she says she’s worried about them, especially Jake. He needs help, and she doesn’t think he can get it from her.

Trina tells Jordan, hi, and says, her mom told her Jordan was back. Jordan says, live and in person. Is she interrupting? Trina says, interrupting? and Jordan says she heard voices. Was Trina talking to someone? Um… she has her phone in her hand, and this woman is Police Commissioner? Trina says, herself. She’s taking voice notes for a course she’s taking on art and death. Jordan says, sounds cheerful, and Trina says, it is. Jordan would be surprised. That’s why she’s here. There’s so much more to cemeteries than death. Spencer listens in, pleased Trina is covering, and Jordan says, things are different than when she was in college. They were just shown slides, and called it a day. Trina asks how Jordan’s been doing; all better? Jordan says, and ready to get back to it, and Trina says, bad guys are officially on notice? Jordan says, damn right, and Trina says she’ll let Jordan get back to it. Jordan asks if Trina is sure she’s okay, and Trina says, positive. Jordan says it’s good to see her, and moves on. Spencer comes out and thanks Trina, saying, he knew he could count on her. That story about being here for school… She says she is here for school. Unlike him, her being there is not a felony. He should try it some time. He says he can’t thank her enough, she pushes him, and he falls to the ground.

Cameron wonders how that just happened, and Josslyn asks how there’s a video at all. Cameron says, and how did it get sent to their entire class? Josslyn looks at her phone, and says, everyone is texting her; all of her friends. She doesn’t think it was just this class. He looks at his phone, and says, him too. Does she think it was sent to the entire school? She says, it’s in her email. There’s no message; just a file. He says, him too, but he doesn’t recognize this email. Does she? She says, of course (🍷) not; what does he think? He asks why she’s yelling at him, and she says, their entire class just saw them having sex. Their professor saw it, and God knows who else. He says, this is freaking him out too. It’s not like he made the video and sent it out to everyone… Wait. Is that what she thinks he did? In the hallway listening, Esme laughs.

Sasha says she sees no reason why they should wait, and Brando says, he wants to marry her more than anything, but a part of him wonders if she’s asking now because it’s what she truly wants, or she might be distracting herself from something they’re both truly missing. Is it about them, or is it about Liam?

Finn tells Elizabeth not to sell herself short. She’s single-handedly raising three amazing young dudes. She says, one of whom might be taking a page out of Spencer Cassadine’s playbook, and he asks if she means trying to break them up. She says, and unnerving the entire family in the process, but he says, they don’t know it’s Jake. She says, but they both think it could be, and he says, he’s just trying to approach this as logically as possible. That way, they can rule Jake out sooner. She says, and if it is him, they can put a stop to things before it goes any further. He says, at least they’ve eliminated the most obvious suspect, and she says, Betsy. Jake has been through so much. Losing Franco and Jason in the same year, not to mention all the years he spent on Cassadine Island. Finn says, his history and his behavior might lead Elizabeth to think he’s involved, but it’s not a given. It could be someone from Franco’s past. He wasn’t exactly a saint. She says, that’s putting it mildly, and he says he’s sure there’s some people out there who Franco wronged who are still angry; yet, it could be someone completely unknown to them. She says, believe it or not, a complete stranger in her house messing with her things, setting fire to Franco’s studio, and bringing that – she indicates the portrait – in here isn’t comforting. He says, sorry. His bedside manner… She says, is horrible. He says, yes. People have complained. Lots and lots of complaints. She laughs, and he says, they should do something about this. She says, such as? and he says, such as a road trip, a change of scenery. Why don’t they go somewhere warm? There’s good therapists everywhere. Maybe they could find someone by the beach, and take off for few weeks; her and the boys, him and Violet… She says she can’t go anywhere with him.

Curtis says, great spot, and Portia says, it’s stunning. He says he’s just not sure he wants to get in a bidding war with Sonny, but Lucy says, that can absolutely be avoided. She has this listing exclusively, and she hasn’t even publicized it. She an tell them for certain Jax would literally rather sell it to anyone else but Sonny. So clear their heads. She wants them to picture a hot summer day, smell the sea air; it’s so wonderful. Picture themselves lolling in a hammock, drinking a lemonade, or perhaps the beverage of their choice, watching the boats go drifting by… It sounds so good, she might even buy this place herself. She tells them to take their time, and makes herself scarce. Portia says she’s not a hammock kind of gal, but this is a nice house, and Curtis says, very. It’s a lot of space. She asks if that isn’t a good thing, and he says, there’s only two of them. Is she sure they need three extra bedrooms? She says, they could make an office, maybe a home gym. Trina’s going to need a room, at least for a few more years. He says, that’s true, but it leaves two extra bedrooms, and she says, or just one. Maybe they could leave a room for his father.

Jordan brushes the leaves off a gravestone, and asks how her old partner is doing. She’s sorry she hasn’t visited in so long, but she’ll tell him the same thing she told Bob; never again. She doesn’t just mean the time between visits. She promises to do the job they all swore to do; to protect and serve and uphold the law. She’s back, and the bad guys are on notice. She kisses her fingers, and places them on the stone.

Sonny says he doesn’t like to be the reason Carly is hurting, and she says, he’s not the only reason. He says, there was a time she didn’t see him at all. Maybe they should go back to that, where he’s like dead to her. She says, Nina would love that, right? and he says, whatever she wants, just say the word, and he’ll make it happen. If she doesn’t want him here, and he’ll be gone. When he picks up Donna or drops her off, she doesn’t have to be there. When she wants to visit Morgan at the cemetery, they’ll pick dates. Whatever she wants, they’ll do.

Spencer says he’s sorry he put Trina in that position, and she says, good luck with his escape, but he says he didn’t escape. It’s kind of a furlough. She says, if this was on the books, he wouldn’t have pressured her into lying for him, and he says his uncle arranged it. It’s his mother; have a heart. No one would have let him come out to see her; it’s such a short sentence. She says, exactly. He couldn’t have waited? No. Because he’s a spoiled rich brat who doesn’t know how good he’s got it. She couldn’t imagine skipping out on her prison sentence. It doesn’t seem very rehab to her, but he does as he pleases, with no regard to rules or consequences because it’s second nature to him; instinct. He says he knows. Privilege.

Cameron asks how Josslyn could think he’d do something like that. Esme continues to listen, and Josslyn says she doesn’t think that. Right now, she can’t think about anything, and he says, but she’s wondering, isn’t she? If he set up a hidden camera so he could secretly record their first time. Why would he do that? She says she doesn’t know, and he says he wouldn’t do that. Esme smiles broadly, and he asks if that’s who Josslyn thinks he really is. She says, of course (🍷) she doesn’t think that, and he asks if she’s sure. She says she’s sorry she made him feel like she doubted him. Her mind just froze, because someone recorded them without their knowledge in her stepfather’s cabin, none of which should be possible by the way, and it’s really freaking her out. He tells her, everything’s going to be fine. Does she think her brother and Nelle could have done it. They used the cabin, right? She says, no. That was years ago, and Michael? No. He asks, what about her stepfather? Could Sonny have some kind of secret camera set up? Esme hears them coming, and tries to jet, but Josslyn yanks her back by her backpack strap, and I laugh at the look on Esme’s face. Josslyn says, you going somewhere?

Trina says, she never thought see the day, Spencer Cassadine admitting to his own privilege. She guesses their previous conversations on this topic haven’t been completely lost on him, and he tells her, nothing she says has been lost on him. Being his friend must be exhausting. She says, that’s one way to put it. Fortunately, every time she says she’s going to give up on him, he does something that shows he might – might – be capable of evolving. He says, he man, she woman, poking her shoulder, and she tells him, never do that again. At least do his best not to try his patience. She has friends who aren’t currently in lockdown who are taxing enough.

Cameron comes out in the hallway, and Esme says, oh my God. She hopes they’re both okay. Josslyn says she just bets Esme does, and Esme says she was just waiting in the hallway. She figured they might need some time, but she stuck around to make sure both of them knew they had her complete support. Josslyn says, is that right? and Esme says, of course (🍷). What Brian did, showing their video to the entire class, was heinous. They should complain to the dean, and if they need a witness, she’ll be at the front of the line. Josslyn says Esme is such a giver, and Cameron says, the video wasn’t just played in front of the class. Seems like whoever did it, emailed a copy of the video to everyone. Esme says she knows; she got one too. Do they think there’s any way it could be unsent or something, or is it just out there for good for the whole world to look at and enjoy? Josslyn says, only one person is enjoying this; the bitch right in front of her.

Finn says Elizabeth is right. Forgive him. Of course (🍷) there’s no way they should be going anywhere together. She says she just doesn’t want to create more upheaval for Jake and Aiden, especially if Jake is the one behind what’s going on. Finn says, until all this gets settled, he can hunker down here, but she says she doesn’t want to uproot him and Violet, and Dante has a patrol coming by. He says he’d feel better being here, but she says she woudn’t. Getting close to him has been amazing, and she’s ready to move on from Franco, but she’s not sure the boys are. She thinks they need more time, and right now, they need their mom to put them first in her life. He says he understands. That’s kind of been his life with Violet; she needs to be first. He just wants her to know he’s okay coming in second, but she says, that doesn’t work for her either.

Brando asks Sasha if he ruined this. If he’s wrong, just say so. He just has a thought, and if putting it out there hurts her, he’d do anything to take it back. She says she asked, and he was honest. He deserves the same from her. She shows him a $10 chip, and says, her winnings from last night. Not much, right? For a long time, not much was what she was used to. Money, people, things all came and left, so she got used to going without. Not being attached to anything because nothing ever lasted long. She came to Port Charles with nothing to her name and zero expectations, and slowly that changed. She started to see maybe things could last. With Nina, with Michael and his family, with Deception, and most of all, with him and Liam. She doesn’t want to live with all that impermanence anymore. She takes his hands, and says, losing their son made her see that her life has become so full, and she wants to hold on to every bit of it so hard, so yes, asking him to marry her is about Liam, but it’s about him too; about them. She wants him and wants all the joy he brings to her life, and never wants to let him go.

Sonny says, however Carly wants it to be is the way it’s going to be, and she says, they agreed to be a team for the girls. She suggests they see if they can manage that, and he says, it’s a good first step. He tells her that he’s got to go, when Jordan walks in. Sonny says, welcome back, and Jordan says, same to him. Carly asks if she’s back on the job, and Jordan says, she’s getting caught up. She was sorry to hear about Jason. Carly thanks her, and Sonny says, it was a big loss. Jordan says, she knows. Cyrus Renault might be walking free today if it hadn’t been for Jason, and Carly. Carly says, Jordan’s no slouch either; she’d say it was a team effort. Jordan says, it was, one that came with shared sacrifice. Carly put herself on the line, letting Cyrus know she was in charge of Sonny’s business while he was out of the picture. Sonny says, well, he’s back, and Carly is focused on the hotel. Jordan asks what he’s focused on, he says, his coffee business, and they smile. He says, they can talk business if she wants, and Carly says she’s going to run her hotel business, and leave them to it. She goes back to the bar, and Sonny says, as he recalls, they got along much better when they worked together. She says, they did. That was when they had a common enemy. Now Cyrus is out of the picture, and his cooperation is over.

Curtis says, they haven’t even made a bid on the house, and Portia has Marshall moving in with them? She says she was thinking more like a dedicated guest room. It does seem like he and Marshall are getting along better these days, and he says, they are, but it’s more a no-longer-want-to-punch-a-hole-in-the-wall kind of better; not can-you-move-in-to-our-dedicated-guest-room better. They still have a long way to go; Marshall has 40 years to account for. She says, maybe they can manifest some father and son bonding. Maybe some bonfires on the beach, a holiday barbecue now and then. He laughs and takes her hands, saying, she really wants this house, doesn’t she? and she says, it is a lot of space, but they’ve got a lot of life and love to fill it with. That’s the way she sees anyway. What about him? What is he thinking?

Spencer says, Trina must be referring to Josslyn. That woman is always about the drama. Trina says she’s not getting into this with him. He’s got to get back to Spring Ridge. He says, if they can both keep quiet about running into each other there, neither one of them will get into trouble for it. She says, unless Jordan doubles back, and he says he should get back to prison. She tells him, be careful. He’s so close to the end of his sentence, and she bets his mom would be the first to say not to mess it up now. He says he bets she’s right. Besides, he wouldn’t want to miss the party she’s throwing him when he’s released. She says, party? He’ll be lucky if he gets so much as a cookie. He says he likes ginger snaps, and she says, he would. He tells her, she didn’t say if she liked his gift, and she says, finish his sentence, then she’ll give him her review, and she leaves.

Esme says, sorry. She doesn’t get her jollies from low-fi armature porn. Cameron says, maybe not, and Josslyn says, but Esme does get off from sticking it to her and Cameron. Esme says, they’re in a bad place right now, so it’s not surprising they’d take this out on her, but it’s a shame. All she wanted was to be their friend, and from the looks of it, they’re going to need all the friends they can get. Cameron says, with friends like her… Josslyn says, who needs pornographers? Esme says, most people find it hard to rebound when their sex tape goes into wide release online for the world to see, but if they want her support, she’ll gladly give it to them. Cameron asks if that’s why she did this; so they’d want her comfort and support after she completely screwed them over? Esme says she tried, and Josslyn says, tried what? To convince them once and for all she’s a sociopath? She succeeded. Esme says she doesn’t have to take this abuse, and Josslyn says she’ll show Esme abuse. Esme asks how Josslyn can be this cruel, and Josslyn says, because Esme is the one who did this.

Sasha says, that was probably a lot for Brando. If he wants to take a step back and reevaluate… He says, the answer to her question is yes. He’ll marry her today, tomorrow, in Niagara Falls, in Las Vegas; wherever, whenever she wants, he’s hers. She laughs and they kiss. She asks if they’re really doing this, and he says, not if they don’t get themselves in gear, get over the border and get to a chapel. She tells him, use the shower, and she’ll look for possible venues.

Elizabeth tells Finn that her kids need her attention right now; her undivided attention. He says he gets it, and him being around, he gets it. She says she’s not asking him to wait for her, and he says she doesn’t have to because he was probably going to do that anyway. Not forever, just like 100 years, 200 tops, but then, he’s walking. She laughs, and he hugs her. He says, in case he wasn’t clear, she’s worth waiting for. He says he’ll see her and leaves, and she looks at the portrait.

Portia asks what Curtis thinks, when Lucy comes back. She’s on the phone, and says, he’d better get home soon because she can’t wait to gobble his cobbler. Curtis says, she’s back, and Lucy says, indeed she is. Do they have any questions? Curtis says, just one, for Portia. Is she ready for that boat life? Portia asks if he’s serious, and he says, let the bidding begin. Portia squeals, Lucy applauds, and Curtis and Portia kiss.

Sonny says he thought he and Jordan were a good team, especially when he was helping her when Cyrus was blackmailing her. She says she thanked him then, and thanks him now, and he says, but her gratitude is limited? She says, it is, which is why she’s offering this token of her appreciation. She considers the slate swiped clean. As far as she’s concerned, the past is just that. He asks what the future looks like, and she says, they have a chance to move forward. Sonny says, as long as he behaves? and she says, just be a good citizen. Maybe it will be easier now that he’s sampled a simpler life. He says, now that he’s back in stride, he’d prefer something a little more spicy, and she tells him, you do you, and so will I. I want badly to make a joke here, but I’ll let it go – too easy. She says, just know, whatever happens next, she won’t be looking the other way.

Sasha fishes the pills out of her bag, and takes another one.

Spencer says, the next time his mother sees him, he’ll be a free man; one she can be proud of. He touches her gravestone, and leaves.

Esme says, how dare they blame her for this? and Josslyn says, because she did it. Esme says, typical Josslyn, record her first time, share it with the world, and blame her. Cameron says, they didn’t make the video, and Josslyn says, Esme did. Esme asks, how? Explain that to her. Josslyn says, how about if they start with Esme constantly trying to push her and Cameron into bed? and Esme says, they’re college freshman. If they need to be pushed into bed, she recommends seeing a doctor. Josslyn says, it’s all Esme talked about for weeks; she couldn’t have been more obvious. Cameron says, actually, she could have. Esme went all in with it at the cabin. Esme asks when she had time. They practically forced her and Spencer to leave. Josslyn says, Esme stayed long enough to piss everyone off with her drinking game, and Esme says, which she apologized for. Josslyn says, the only reason Esme apologizes to anyone is so she can manipulate them again, and again. Esme says she doesn’t know what’s sadder; Josslyn not taking responsibility for taping her revolting little spectacle and sending it out – Cameron says, they didn’t even know it existed – or that Josslyn can’t do a halfway decent job of blaming her. If she’s so hellbent on blaming someone, don’t look at her; she wasn’t there. Why doesn’t she ask someone who was? They turn around, and Trina has walked in.

Tomorrow, Drew wants to find out what someone’s objective is (probably Victor); Victor says Ava is just making things worse; Maxie asks if Britt can forgive her secrets; and Trina asks, who the hell is Esme calling dysfunctional?

🤷🏽 Is it me? As Scotty would say, for cryin’ out loud, why such a bizarre reaction to the video by Cameron and Josslyn’s peers? It’s not like they had a goat with them or something. Are college kids 12 now? I just can’t see it being so hilarious to people of college age. And Cameron and Josslyn’s friends would all ditch them because…? The only thing they should really be concerned about is someone distributing it and making money. In which case, they need to make sure to get a cut.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

We backtracked a little, and Ashley tells Tom that she feels she’s more mature than he is. Tom insists that just because he got f***ed up the first night, doesn’t mean he’s not mature. In Ashley’s interview, she says she’s not into guys her age. Get over it. If she changes her mind, she’ll let him know. Tom whines that he’s not a f***ing child. Ashley tells Kelsie, Tom’s having a meltdown, and Tom grumbles to Colin and Gary. Colin says, Tom has a crush, and he can’t wait for them to have make-up sex.

In the morning, Ashley says she feels like sh*t. She’s got to stop drinking tequila. Colin also admits to a hangover. Daisy tells Ashley to vacuum, and Ashley makes an exasperated sound. In Gabriela’s interview, she says, Ashley makes a big stink over things when she doesn’t have to. Tom tells Gary that maybe he heard the whole thing wrong… or maybe he didn’t like what Ashley said. Gary thinks Tom should clear the air. Everyone does what they need to do in turning the boat over. Ashley bitches to Marcos about not wanting to date guys her age, and being entitled to her opinion. In Marcos’s interview, he says, to be young again. When he was young, he’d worked a charter with all women crew members, and had sex with everyone, but nobody knew. Until one day, they started drinking and ended up wanting to burn him alive. He says, they’ll learn the hard way. Captain Glenn calls Daisy, Gary, and Marcos to the crew mess for the preference sheet meeting.

Glenn gives them the sheets upside down, and when they’re flipped over, it’s a collective, noooo. It’s returning primary Erica and her mother Cindi. Marcos doesn’t know who they are, and, being generous, Glenn says, they’re very interesting. We flash back, and it’s the rude blonde girl with a Kim Kardashian voice from last season. The husbands are coming, along with some new friends who want to experience the luxury and adventure of sailing in the Mediterranean. Glenn says, since the husbands are coming, it could be different. Because there are seven guests, they want the master divided, so Erica and her husband will be separated from her mother. Glenn doesn’t think it’s feasible to use the divider they have on board, since it hasn’t been used in years, but maybe they can hang something. The guests want a steak dinner, and a boozy beach party, as well as a party to celebrate each decade they’ve been through. Erica also expects a higher level of service than they received last season. In Daisy’s interview, she says, these people are disrespectful, exhausting, emotionally draining, and unpredictable, which is scary.

Glenn and Gary work on devising something to separate the rooms, while Daisy tells the stews what a horror show the guest were last time. She explains that Erica wanted her luggage unpacked, and there was so much luggage. She says, their cabins were vile, and we flashed back to that. She tells them, be prepared. Gary phones around to find material, and Daisy calls for scotch and cigars. Gary wants Tom to sort things out with Ashley, and in Gary’s interview, he says, a little argument can turn into a massive thing on a boat. Tom tries to radio Ashley, who isn’t picking up, so he hunts her down. He tells her that he’s sorry about last night, and she says, she gets it, but she got angry since she’s allowed to have her opinion. In Tom’s interview, he says, Gary is 32, and he’s Gary. Tom might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but his mom would tell you that he’s a catch. He and Ashley hug it out. Gary goes over stuff with the deckhands, and Gabriela discovers the bar is a mess. She cleans it, mumbling, that’s what she makes a list for. She chants, I’m pissed, I’m pissed, I’m pissed. Meanwhile, Ashley is in the crew mess talking to Daisy about décor as she stuffs her face. Gabriela confronts Ashley about not doing what was on the list, saying, she guesses Ashley thinks the bar isn’t important, but Daisy tells her, it will be fine. In Daisy’s interview, she says she’s hoping they could tell she doesn’t want to hear it. They’re on ego trips, and better find a way to work with each other. Gabriela goes up on deck with Gary to grab a smoke, and asks what she should do. Ashley wants to be second stew, and she thinks Ashley is trying to make her look bad. Gary tells her, calling someone out in front of the crew isn’t a good look, and in his interview, he says, your problem becomes everyone else’s problem. Pull up your socks and say sorry. Gabriela says she’ll apologize, and approaches Ashley, who’s busy on her phone instead of working. Gabriela says, calling Ashley out wasn’t cool, but she was nervous about everything getting done. Ashley says, it was uncalled for, but Gabriela says, it was rude, but not uncalled for. Ashley says she thinks having titles is obsolete, and Gabriela says, when Ashley doesn’t do what she’s told and jumps over her, it makes her look bad. Ashley insists talking to Daisy wasn’t jumping over Gabriela, and in Gabriela’s interview, she says, so much for taking the high road. Ashley says, the mentality she’s going with is that they’re on a level playing field, and in Ashley’s interview, she says, Gabriela isn’t her boss; she’s not chief stew. Gabriela asks if they’re good, and Ashley says, it’s fine. I decide Ashley is a real ashhole.

Ashley hopes the charter goes by fast, since she’s ready to have another night out. Marcos notes that the preference sheet for co-primary and Erica’s husband, Charles, says he likes everything. Tom suggests he highlight that to show Charles when Charles complains. Glenn announces there’s been an update. He got a text saying their guests were removed from their flight at Heathrow, and met by the police. The brouhaha caused them to miss their connecting flight. That’s f***ing crazy. Daisy says she told him they were crazy, and he says, Cindi will be coming later, and picked up by the tender. In Daisy’s interview, she wonders, who gets kicked off a plane? Provisions come in, and I’m suddenly hungry. Gary cuts a door in the dividing material so there’s access to go between the makeshift rooms. Everyone does a final walkaround, and Marcos does fast feet in the galley. Gary hugs Daisy from behind and won’t let go. Glenn says the transom doesn’t look done; it has to be washed, rinsed, and shammy dried. He tells Kelsie, you can do all the work, but if it still looks like sh*t, it’s not done. In Glenn’s interview, he says, they can’t neglect certain things. He wants results, and it has to be perfect moving forward. The guests arrive, and Daisy repeats that she loves her job. Glenn says, oh God.

Erica says they’re at the point where they can give hugs, and Glenn says he’s happy to welcome them, and looking forward to having Cindi back. Erica says, she’s on her way, and Daisy gives the tour. The deckhands bring on a million bags. Erica declares the room division perfect, and tells Daisy that there was drama at the airport. Her mother was flying in economy class, and wanted the omelet that first class had where she and Charles were. She snuck into first class to get Charles’s omelet, and they were met by fully armed cops at the airport. I have the feeling there’s more to that story, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she doesn’t have the words. She tells them it will be a drama free charter, and the boat sets off.

On deck, Charles talks about his triple astrological tendencies, and says he comes off as peaceful, but he’s crazier than sh*t. Daisy asks if Erica would like them to unpack, and she asks Charles, when has she hung up things in her entire life? Daisy asks Ashley to unpack the master, and the sails go up. Sailing music plays in the background. You know the kind I mean. The boat starts to tilt, and things start falling. Ashley unpacks a wet bathing suit. Charles parks himself on the bed, and talks to Ashley while she unpacks, and talks, and talks. In Ashley’s interview, she says, oh my God. Pray for my sanity. She might lose her sh*t this charter. She suggests Charles check out the views, and he finally leaves. Marcos studies the preference sheets, and I go get some cheese and crackers during the commercial.

Colin realizes Tom didn’t take the pins out of the transom door before trying to open it. Tom says, it’s not a big deal, and in Colin’s interview, he says he doesn’t like Tom’s attitude.. Cindi is ready to be picked up, and Gary leaves in the tender. If you try to open the transom without removing the pins, you could damage the door. Then you can’t take people on and off the boat. It’s a serious thing Colin talks to Tom more calmly about the pins, and in Tom’s interview, he says he’s not much of a sailing expert, but he knows superyachts, and he’s not a moron. He’s going to forget tiny things; be patient. Cindi arrives, and I remember her. She wanted a massage, and one of the stews was certified, and gave her one. And she talked, and talked, and talked. Then the stews were talking about her, and Erica overheard. Marcos goes over the menu with Daisy, so she can double-check with the guests. Charles says, gazpacho sounds disgusting, and he doesn’t even want to be anywhere near it. In Daisy’s interview, she says, just tell her WTF they want. There’s definitely tension, and she’s trying to hold it off, because it will be her who has to deal with it. She tells Marcos that Charles and Cindi are not into the gazpacho, and he says he’ll make a salad. Erica beelines to the galley, and Marcos tells her the rest of the menu. One of the courses contains broccoli mousse, and she asks there’s any way he can make it not mousse. In Marcos’s interview, he says he gets it now. Just because they have fancy clothes and are on a fancy boat, doesn’t mean they have fancy tastebuds. Gabriela feels the vibe is different from the last charter, and she’s not wrong. Tom bitches, and Gary helps wash dishes in the galley.

Charles paces on deck, making me think an impending storm is brewing. Ashley makes a drink for Cindi, and Gabriela gets a load of the master, which is already a mess. In Gabriela’s interview, she says, holy sh*t, dude. So gross. The guests sit for dinner, and Glenn hunts for gummi bears in the crew mess. Marcos presents grilled vegetables and marinated steak. Charles says, at first, he didn’t know if he liked it, but it turned out that he did like it. Erika says that she doesn’t like any pink in her steak; she wants medium, no pink. Charles says he thinks she means medium well, and in his interview, Marcos says, this cannot keep happening. He takes the steak back to the galley, and returns with another one, done medium well. When they finish, Cindi says, it’s a man’s dinner, and Charles says, it’s one of the best steaks he’s eaten. This is in the top five dinners of his life. Erica tells Daisy that they’d like brunch tomorrow, and Daisy tells Marcos, brunch at the beach; no breakfast and no lunch.

In Marcos’s interview, he says, messing up Erica’s steak sucks. He’s going to pay close attention. He’s making simple food for simple tastebuds. When the guests get up, Charles immediately starts bitching about waiting until 11 to eat. Daisy asks him to let her know what he’d like, and suggests an omelet. In Daisy’s interview, she says, she’s so confused. Not only was it on the preference sheet, didn’t he confirm it with the co-primary, his wife? Cindi asks for bacon and poached eggs. Daisy brings Charles and omelet, and he examines it like it’s a bug under a microscope. He says he wants another one; there are ingredients he didn’t order, like tomatoes. Daisy brings it back to Marcos, and tells him to just include bacon, onion, and cheese. At the table, Charles starts complaining that the food isn’t even as good as Chili’s; it’s worse than bad. Cindi retroactively gripes about her steak, and Erica tells Daisy that Charles is disappointed. Charles says he’s disgusted. Gabriela tells Ashley that he’s just an entitled a-hole, and Charles doesn’t like the next omelet either. In her interview, Daisy says, he was raving about the food last night. This guy is just looking for a fight. He’s uncultured, unmannered, and untraveled. He can go f*** himself. Charles rants that he’s had better food at the ballpark.

We actually have a local ballpark – go BlueClaws! – that has very decent food, but highly doubtful it’s better than Marco’s food.

Next time, the beach; Glenn says, it looks like someone sh*t their pants on the sofa; Marcos gets a head injury; and a drunk Daisy kisses Gary

General Hospital

Sonny and Nina walk into the Tan-O, and Nina says, it feels empty. He was so great with helping Phyllis with the arrangements, and holding her hand. She doesn’t know how he did it. He says, she needed it, and that’s what people do. Like how Nina spent the night with her. In times of crisis, people step up. She says, it’s great to see all the friends and family who came out to support Phyllis and remember Lenny, a decorated war veteran and native son of Nixon Falls. The people of this town really loved him. Sonny says, he loved this town and the people in it. That’s all that really matters, right? Loving others, and being loved.

Josslyn tells Carly that she’s going to Kelly’s – moss bowl! 🎍 – and Carly asks, what’s the rush? Josslyn says she wants to hear about the rest of Spencer’s party from Trina. She asks if everything is okay with Carly, and Carly says, it is; why? Josslyn says it was pretty obvious she had somewhere to be last night, and Carly says maybe she just wanted to get Josslyn and Cameron away from that ridiculous island. There was already enough drama, doesn’t she think? Josslyn says, that’s the way Spencer does things, over-the-top, but once Carly realized Tony got them home, she couldn’t leave fast enough. Why was she in such a hurry, and who was she meeting?

Trina walks into Kelly’s, where Cameron is bussing tables. She says, Joss isn’t here yet? and he says, they left the party so late last night, he figured she was sleeping in. What did they miss? Did Spencer’s dad have any more crazy surprises after that knife trick he pulled? Hey, is she okay? Did something worse happen last night? Do they need to reach out to Spencer? She says she wouldn’t worry. Despite what his father did, Spencer is definitely not alone. He asks what she means, and she says, let’s just say Spencer has a bigger support system than any of them realized.

Laura tells Doc, she has a full slate of meetings today. For some reason, that budget is just never finished. She sees a breakfast spread on the table, and tells Doc that he shouldn’t have. He says he didn’t, and Spencer walks in, telling her and Doc, good morning. Esme follows him with French press coffee, and says, bon appétit.

Anna sits at the pool (🍷) sipping a drink, when Martin sits next to her. He asks if she thinks anyone would judge him if he ordered a bloody Mary, and she says she learned long ago that when a lawyer is all smiles, it’s best to be on your guard. He says, no fear; he’s off the clock. Or couldn’t she tell by what he’s wearing? She says he does look comfortable, and he says, as does she. One more thing they have in common. She says, they have something else in common? and he says their mutual friend and sometimes partner – Valentin Cassadine.

Valentin comes downstairs, and checks himself out in the mirror. Brook says he’s in a good mood for a guy who just dribbled toothpaste on himself, and he says, it’s Bailey’s baby formula. She loves it when daddy makes silly faces to get her to finish her bottle. Brook says he’s really in love with that little girl, isn’t he? and he says, who woudn’t be?

Chase looks at a text from Austin that says, counting on you. Remember, they have it coming. He flashes back to finding out Michael and Willow slept together, when the two of them walk in, Michael chattering away about how Wiley got his phone. Michael says, hey, Chase. He didn’t know Chase was there. Chase says, don’t stop what they’re doing on his account, and they look all kinds of guilty.

Sonny says, it’s quiet, and Nina says, Lenny would hate this. He says, Lenny loved his customers. He welcomed strangers, and loved his music. He played that jukebox every morning; his favorite song. She says, and when he thought no one was looking, he’d dance with the broom. Sonny laughs, and she says, but his favorite was dancing with his wife. She can see them over there, dancing their last dance. He says, he used to watch them, and think to himself, he’d love to have that one day. She says he’s right. They were lucky they had love for a very long time. He says, nothing can change that. Not even death.

Carly tells Josslyn, they got back late last night, and then she had a pressing engagement. Josslyn says, with Jason? and Carly says, yes; how did she know? Josslyn says, because they’re engaged, and it’s not unusual for engaged people to want to hang out. She’s going to Kelly’s now… Carly tells her to wait. There’s something she has to tell Josslyn, and it also involves her brother.

Willow – who is starting to totally annoy me – asks if Chase is ready for her to take him out to the yard so he can work on his physical therapy. He says he got up early, and already did his morning routine, and Michael says it sounds like he’s making progress. Chase says he’s getting stronger every day, but then again, he has great motivation. He looks at Willow, and Michael’s phone dings. Michael says his mother wants him to swing by the house. It’s something important. He leaves, and Chase asks if Willow wants to go with him. She asks why she would, and he tells her, Michael said it was important, and he knows how much Michael means to her.

Laura says, it’s very sweet of them to go through all this trouble, and Spencer says, it’s the least they could do after she and Doc took them in last night. Esme says she did her research and found an excellent patisserie with an excellent croissant. Spencer says, Esme is very resourceful. They have no idea. He flashes back to Esme telling him how she set fire to Ava’s car, and Laura says she hopes Esme found the guest room comfortable. Esme says she slept like a baby, but she knows the three of them have some catching up to do, so she’s going to explore the town. She kisses Spencer on the cheek and says, à bientôt, and Doc says, au revoir. Spencer thinks maybe he’ll go with her, but Laura says his friend seems capable of exploring on her own. She’s just curious why Spencer hasn’t mentioned her before.

Anna says she and Valentin have a very long, very complicated history, and Martin says, it’s not all in the past. They recently took a trip to New York together, didn’t they? On the trail of Peter August. One could only hope they were successful. She says they were following a lead, which ultimately didn’t pan out, and he asks if she puts her relationship with Valentin in that same category. She says, what’s that to you, Mr. Grey? and he says, please, call him Martin. Or better yet, call him Marty. All his friends do. Anna asks if he considers her a friend, and he says he hopes they’re moving in that direction. As a matter-of-fact, can he be honest? She says she’s not sure she can stop him, and he says he’s long been fascinated by the mystique of Anna Devane. He’d surely love to get to know her better, and vice versa. She says, Marty, are you hitting on me?

Willow tells Chase, of course (🍷) Michael’s important to her; he’s Wiley’s father. He says, great. That’s what she shares with Michael; Wiley. Valentin and Brook come in, and he tells Brook that he’s just saying his daughter lights up when he comes in the room, but Brook says she doesn’t recognize him; she just has gas. Willow asks if they’ll ever agree on anything, and Valentin says, just that they created a spectacular baby girl. Brook says, sadly, they don’t agree on much else, least of all Austin Gatlin-Holt’s bogus claim to ELQ shares. Valentin says, Austin’s lawsuit may be an inconvenience to the Quartermaine family, but that doesn’t mean it’s without merit. She says, spoken by the guy who’s keeping Austin in play, on the off-chance he wins his case and gets ELQ shares, just so he can potentially be a vote to keep Valentin as CEO. Chase says, not that anyone asked his opinion, but he has a point of view. Brook says, he’s a neutral observer. She, for one, welcomes his input. He says he hates to disappoint her, but he’s far from neutral. It’s true, he’s not a Quartermaine and doesn’t have a vested interest in the outcome, but he sides with the guy who’s being kept in the dark. Brook says they only have Austin’s word to go on that he’s being denied his birthright. The will made by her great-grandfather Edward was very clear. Jimmy Lee Holt was cut out and wouldn’t get a dime. Edward actually didn’t want him anywhere near ELQ. Chase says, what if there was proof Edward changed his mind and wanted the will to include Austin’s father? Valentin says he’s the detective; does he have proof? Brook says, no he doesn’t because there isn’t any. If there was, Austin would have produced it. Valentin says, as it happens, he’s having lunch with Austin. Maybe he’ll produce it then. He leaves, and Chase says he’s sorry if he spoke out of turn, but Brook says she’s not angry at him, especially since he’s speaking from the heart. She hears Bailey cry, and leaves. Chase says he knows Willow has class this morning, and doesn’t have to stick around on his account. She says she’s leaving soon, but hopes he knows Brook is right. He does have a big heart. He asks if that’s why she loves him.

Martin says Anna will have to forgive him. They’re not all as suave and debonair as Valentin. Come to think of it, even his name sounds romantic. Martin tells her that he’s never shied away from the challenges of the fairer sex, and from where he’s sitting, she’s the fairest of them all. Aww! He’s kind of cute. She tells him, says the man who’s had six wives, and he says, be fair. That was Henry XIII; he’s only had three. And they’re all on speaking terms. What does that tell her? She says, that he got a good deal on alimony, and he laughs, saying, she’s disconcertingly perceptive. She says he’s quite charming, and he asks if that means he’s making any headway. She says his interest is duly noted, and he says he’ll take that as a definite maybe.

Laura says, Esme seems like a nice girl. She assumes Spencer met her at school, and he says, yes. At first he thought she was too cool for him, but they hit it off. Doc says maybe she thought he was cool too, and Laura says, of course (🍷) she thought he was cool; he’s her grandson. Spencer says, bless her, but it’s not like she’s the most objective source, and she says he has his father’s charm. Spencer says he hopes that’s all he inherited, and she says his father does love him very much. She hopes he knows that. Spencer says, he has a warped way of showing it. Either he’s pretending he’s dead or pretending to stab Spencer, but either way, Spencer is done. She says, he’s hurt and angry, and with good reason. It was wrong of Nikolas to accuse him of being Ava’s stalker, and even more wrong to stage that attack. She doesn’t know what he was trying to do; make Spencer see the error of his ways… Doc says he admits, he was beginning to wonder if Nikolas was right. Spencer’s dislike for Ava is well known. Spencer says he doesn’t love that Doc thought he was guilty, but appreciates Doc can admit he was wrong. Doc says, it’s not even remotely the same thing, but if Spencer can see his way to forgive him, he wonders if there’s any chance Spencer can do the same for his father. Spencer says he doesn’t mean to be rude, but he has no energy nor the emotional bandwidth to think about his father right now. His top priority is figuring out where he and Esme are going to live. Laura tells him, as she said, Esme seems like a lovely girl, and shows good taste in dating him, but there’s no way he and Esme going to live together.

Trina tells Cameron, last night was weird. Beyond weird, and that was before Esme showed up. He asks, who’s Esme? when Esme walks in, saying, it’s good to see Trina again. She wonders if they can direct her to the Museum of Fine Art, and Trina says, around there, they call it The Chuck, and it’s good to see her too. She introduces Cameron, who says he doesn’t know if Spencer mentioned it, but they’re sort of cousins. They share the same grandmother, but aren’t actually related. Esme says Cameron is exactly the way Spence described him, and Cameron says, he is? She says she and Spence share everything.

Michael enters moss bowl town, and asks what he missed. Josslyn says she doesn’t know. Carly wouldn’t tell her until he got there. Carly says she wanted to tell them both at the same time. Last night she had a wake-up call. Josslyn says, Spencer’s party was a wake-up call? and Carly says, it had nothing to do with the party. She and Jason realized they don’t need or want a long engagement. She wanted them to be them first to know, they’re getting married on September 17^th. Josslyn hugs Carly, and says, here’s to the future Mrs. Jason Morgan.

Sonny tells Nina, a memorial wall is a beautiful idea; everything from Lenny’s past life. They’ve brought out a trunk, and Nina says, let’s take a look. Sonny takes out a medal, and says, Lenny was so proud of being a Marine, and serving their country. Nina suggests they leave the medals out so they can put them on the wall. She takes out some postcards, and says, Lenny sent them to Phyllis when he was overseas. Sonny takes out a photo from their wedding, saying, Lenny is in his uniform, and Phyllis has a white dress on. Nina says, they look so young and happy. Sonny concentrates on the photo, and Nina asks him, what’s wrong? He remembers Carly in a white dress with a bouquet, but doesn’t see her face. Nina asks again, what’s wrong? Talk to her. He says, for a second, he thought he’d remembered something; the woman he told her about, with a wedding bouquet. Maybe it’s not a memory, just a vision of his future. Nina asks if the vision was good or bad, and he says, good.

Josslyn says, it’s so exciting, and asks why Michael isn’t jumping up and down like she is. He says, inside, he’s doing backflips, and congratulates Carly, hugging her. Josslyn says she has to tell Cameron and Trina, and jets. Michael says Carly and Jason aren’t giving themselves much time to plan a wedding. What is he saying? She’s not giving herself much time. Jason will just show up and do what she tells him. She says she can get it together by then, especially if she keeps it small. He asks if the point wasn’t to send a message, and if it shouldn’t be a big deal.

Spencer says he never thought of Laura as a puritan before, and she says she’s not; far from it. But he can’t go from his high school dormitory to moving in with Esme. Doc says, last night, Spencer’s father shook the ground underneath him. It’s only natural that he’d want to spend time with someone he can count on. Spencer says he appreciates their concern and counsel, but he assures them that he and Esme won’t be moving in together. He’d planned on offering her a room at Windymere, but that’s out the window now. He needs to help her find a place in town. Laura asks, for how long? Do her parents know about these plans? And how does he plan to finance this independent lifestyle? Spencer says he has money, but Laura says, his father has money. He took control of Spencer’s trust. He may grant Spencer access, but would Spencer take money from his father with one hand, and push him back with the other?

Anna says she’s not in the market for a romantic entanglement, and Martin says, just for his own verification, if he may be so bold, is it because she’s not interested, or because she’s already romantically entangled? She asks if he approaches every situation in his life like an attorney. She feels like she’s being cross-examined. He says, forgive him, but he feels they all bring their professional life into the personal. For instance, with her training with the WSB, is she always more comfortable with her secrets and deflections, rather than answering a simple heartfelt question? She says, touché. There are people who consider her lack of transparency a deal breaker. He says he’s not one of them. He flatters himself that they were made to dance together. Hell, just for the chance, he’d even let her lead. She laughs, and Valentin watches.

Brook tells Bailey that Valentin loves her so much. He wants to be a good daddy to her. Let’s face it; he’s succeeded. She pushes the stroller through the foyer, and says, what is she going to do when Peter is finally caught and punished, and Maxie gets to bring her home forever. How is she going to explain to Valentin? What’s going to happen to her? Let’s face it, Bailey is all she’s got right now. She leaves with Bailey.

Chase says his and Willow’s marriage began under dire circumstances. She thought he was going to die – everybody did – but he survived, and then he couldn’t walk… She says she married him because she wanted to, and he says, that’s generous, considering he made her believe he’d cheated on her with Sasha. She says, that’s only because he wanted her to be with Wiley. Once she found out the truth, she could only be grateful. He says he never stopped loving her. Even now, even when… She says, when what? and he says, even when he’s not the man he was. She says he’s still that man. He’s getting better, and he will walk again. She absolutely believes that. Nothing has changed. He says, really? Nothing?

Anna says, next time she’s in the market for an attorney, she’ll give Martin a call. He says, next time he’s in the market for a little cloak and dagger, he’ll return the favor. Who knows? Maybe one day he can bail her out of trouble, and she can turn around and help him get into some. She says, stranger things have happened, and Valentin asks what he’s interrupting. Martin says they’re not sure, but it was getting interesting. Anna says she has to make a call, and asks Martin to save her chair. He tells her that she can count on it. He says, that is one amazing woman; the kind you take home to mother. Valentin says, not his mother, and they sit down. Valentin asks what Martin is doing. He’s not getting ideas about Anna, is he? Martin says, if he was, what would it mean to Valentin?

Spencer says, from now on he’s going to take care of himself, and Laura wonders if he’s going to ask Cameron to put in a good word for him at Kelly’s, so he can join Cameron bussing tables. Spencer says he hopes she’s joking, but she says she’s not. Doc says, there’s nothing wrong with an honest day’s work, but he thinks the point Laura is trying to make is that it’s not healthy walking around with all this unresolved anger toward his father. Spencer asks, what’s been left unresolved? After last night, he wants nothing to do with his father, or his money. He storms out, and Laura says, Doc is the expert. How can she help him when it’s clear he doesn’t want her help? And like his father, Spencer has no idea how badly he needs it.

Esme sits down, and Josslyn runs in, saying, she has the most exciting news. Trina says they have news too, and Cameron says, not what, but who. Trina introduces Josslyn to Esme, who says she’s never met a Josslyn before. At least not how she spells it. Josslyn asks if she knows Esme, and Esme says, Spence has told her all about Josslyn. Everything from her scar from her kidney transplant, to her Australian roots, to her mad volleyball skills. She even knows all about Josslyn’s family’s – quote, unquote – coffee business. Josslyn takes it Esme went to school with Spencer, and Trina says, more than that. Esme is Spence’s girlfriend.

Nina and Sonny look at a picture of them with Lenny and Phyllis on their way to the firehouse dance. Sonny says, it’s sweet, all dressed up, ready to go to the dance; preserved forever. She says, nothing lasts forever, and he asks if she doesn’t believe in the afterlife. Does she think this is all there is? Doesn’t she think Lenny is somewhere looking down on them? She says she doesn’t know, and he says he believes their souls and spirits continue on after they’re gone. She says she’d like to believe that, and he says, he found her, and he’s not going lose her. What they have, what they will have, is going to live on. They start to kiss, and Nina says, sorry. This is wrong.

Carly tells Michael that she doesn’t know what to do. He’s absolutely right. This wedding was supposed to make a huge statement – along with the moss bowl🎍. They’re supposed to prove to the Five Families ~~sliced pepperoni~~, and the rest of the world, that she and Jason committed, but she’d rather have a small gathering with the people they love the most. He says part of the reason they’re getting married is to keep Josslyn and her little sister safe. They get to dress up and go to a party for two of their favorite people. And it’s not like she and Jason don’t love each other in their own way. Who knows where it could lead? He and Willow got married for Wiley’s sake, and it turned into something real. She says, then Chase got sick and Willow married him. Is there something he wants to tell her?

Willow tells Chase, what’s never going to change is that she wants him to be happy. He says she makes him happy, and she says, does she? He says, she knows she does. Even stuck in this chair, no one makes him feel like he’s on top of the world like she does. She says, that’s a lot of responsibility to put on someone. One slip, and you can go from the top of the world… He says he’s been there; rock bottom. She asks if he means when he Sasha pretended to have an affair and they broke up, and he asks, what else would he be talking about? She says he survived that, and learned to live again, and he asks, what about her? She says she loves her life and has no regrets, but… He says, but what? She can tell him anything. She says she has to go to class. She suggests he do more PT work, kisses him on the cheek, and leaves. He looks at the text from Austin again, and deletes the message.

Nina says, sorry, and Sonny says he shouldn’t have kissed her. He knows they have a responsibility to Phyllis; she’s counting on them. She thanks him for understanding, and takes his face in her hands. She says he’s found his true self there, hasn’t he? and he says she doesn’t sound surprised. She says she’s not. She’s grateful she’s able to share this time with him, for however long she can. He takes her hand, and says he’s not going anywhere.

Michael says he thought they were talking about Carly’s future marriage; not his past one. He sits near the moss bowl 🎍, soaking up its glory, and she says he’s the one who compared the two. She thinks it’s kind and generous he offered for Chase to stay at the Quartermaine’s while he gets his life back together, but with Willow and Wiley so close? He says, they’ll make it work, and she says, is he sure? At what cost? His phone rings, and it’s Willow. She says she needs to see him. Not at the house; someplace private. He says he’s at his mom’s along with the moss bowl 🎍. She can come there. She says she’s on her way, and dashes out the door. Chase peeks out of the living room.

Josslyn says she takes it Esme is in town for Spencer’s party. How long is she visiting? Esme says it’s funny to hear them refer to him Spencer; no one at school calls him that. Cameron says, and no one in Port Charles calls him Spence. Josslyn says, especially the people who have known him his entire life, and Esme says, cool, and that would include her? Josslyn says, it sure would, and Esme says Spencer has told her so much about all of them. She looks forward to getting to know them personally. Trina says Esme never said how long she was visiting, and Esme says, that depends on Spence. Spencer walks in, and Esme says, come join them. They were just getting acquainted.

Valentin suggests he and Martin agree that Anna is off limits, and Martin says he’s positively neanderthal, marking his territory. Valentin tells Martin, he’s just saying the woman is very complicated, and Martin says he enjoys complications. Valentin says, as much as Martin enjoys his retainer? and Martin says, point taken. Perhaps what Anna needs is someone as complicated as she is. Martin’s phone rings, and he answers. He says, of course (🍷)… He’ll meet them downstairs. Anna comes back, and asks if everything is all right, and Martin says, to be continued. He looks at Valentin and says, perhaps not, and leaves. Anna asks, what happened? and Valentin says he doesn’t know, but it doesn’t look good.

Brook goes into the living room, telling Chase that she didn’t mean to… She sees an empty chair.

Carly looks over the moss bowl 🎍, and tells Michael that he can tell her anything; she won’t judge him. He says he knows that, but he has nothing to say. She tells him, whatever he says, and he says, he’s not suggesting his situations are the same, and he’s not going to lie and say he’s happy with how things are with Willow. He’s just saying Carly and Jason might find their marriage of convenience might bring them closer to a real happy ending.

Sonny says he should probably go. He promised Phyllis he’d come by the house. Nina says he should go, and she’ll stay there and look for more souvenirs. But tell Phyllis that she’ll drop everything if Phyllis needs her. He says he’s sure she knows that, but he’ll remind her. And don’t forget, grief can be very tricky. He leaves, and she looks at the photo of the four of them. There’s a knock at the door, and she says, sorry; they’re closed. The knock is persistent, and she says, can’t they see the sign on the door? She opens it, saying, sorry, they’re closed, and finds Maxie.

Valentin says Anna and Martin seemed to get along like a house on fire, and she says, he’s very Southern gentleman. Very different than what she’s used to. He says, so are grits and ham, but he doesn’t believe she’s given up on the finer things in life, has she?

Laura says she should go to work, and Doc tells her that he’ll clean up there. There’s a knock at the door, and Laura says she’ll get it. It’s Martin, who says, sister, I fear we are in trouble.

Trina says she has to go to the gallery. She doesn’t want Ava to handle things alone today, especially after the stalker torched her car. Esme says, as an art fan, she looks forward to meeting Trina’s boss. Trina leaves, and Josslyn follows her out. She asks if Trina is okay, and Trina says, why wouldn’t she be? Josslyn says, maybe because Spencer never told them he had a girlfriend. Trina asks what it matters, and Josslyn says, is she kidding? Spencer’s been acting all kinds of interested in her, turning on the charm. And Trina went out of her way to be there for him last night. He should have been honest. Trina says, he’s just a guy. It’s not like she was his girlfriend. She needs to go. Ava is counting on her. Trina leaves, and Cameron comes out. He says, it’s not like they didn’t already know Spencer was a jerk, and Josslyn says, a jerk who might be in way over his head. He asks what she means, and she says, who mentions a kidney transplant five seconds after meeting her? He says, Esme’s a little extra, and she says she guesses that’s what Spence deserves.

Spencer says he thought Esme was sightseeing, and she says she came in for directions and ran into his friends. She wants to get to know the people who are important to him.

Willow throws her arms around Michael, and the moss bowl 🎍 approves. He asks, what’s going on? What happened? She says she can’t do this anymore.

Chase walks shakily back to the living room, holding on to a paper. He calls Austin, and leaves a voicemail saying he found proof that Edward wanted to add his father to the will. Call him back. He goes into the living room to find Brook sitting in his wheelchair. She says she’s glad to see he’s back on his feet. Why doesn’t he tell her what’s really going on?

On Monday, Michael says he’ll wait for Willow as long as it takes, Ned asks what he can give Austin to walk away, Sam says maybe Valentin can help her, Brook wants the truth from Chase, and Nina asks Maxie to leave.

Million Dollar Listing New York

Fredrik finally met KJ in person at the 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 2700 square foot penthouse on East 1^st Street that was going for $8.7 million. KJ said he was taller in person. When they’d initially met, he was a robot – i.e. an iPad on a stick. She wanted to put down her bag, and Fredrik pointed out the Mathieu Lehanneur art piece furniture (I finally snagged the name), and told her, just to look was $1000. KJ thought she might have a client for the penthouse. They were Texans looking for something with outdoor space – the penthouse had 1200 square feet of it – in a cool, funky area of NYC, and were willing to go up to $10 million. KJ thought the apartment’s renovation was neutral, but still new and fresh. Fredrik pointed out the onyx walls and floors in the primary bath, and in his interview, he said when he was feeling NYC, he liked KJ more. They discussed the possibility of KJ striking out on her own, and Fredrik said there came a time when you wanted to start doing it your way. He had 50 people in NYC, and in KJ’s interview she said there were 12 people on her team at Hudson Advisory. If she went out on her own, she’d have to start from scratch, but she’d made a goal to stop limiting herself.

Tyler had the listing for the townhouse at 159 West 87^th Street from Evan, Kemba’s bae, and it had been five weeks, but still no offers. The townhouse was entirely restored, with original details, pocket doors, outdoor space, and 8 converted fireplaces. It was so beautiful, it made me want to cry. If I had a spare $6.995 million lying around, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Tyler had posted an old-fashioned musical promoting himself on Instagram that had gotten a lot of attention. Even though they couldn’t have a party, or serve food and drinks (this was earlier in the pandemic), he’d staged the house, and was showing it as much as he could. In his interview, he said he’d staged it simply, so that potential buyers could see the timeless beauty. His team members dressed like characters out of The Great Gatsby, and Tyler said, a bedazzled mask, top hat, and magic stick were how he sold houses. He also impressively produced that magic stick from a hanky.

Steve was at 157 West 57^th Street, a luxury, fully furnished rental on Central Park, going for a $69,500 a month. Can you imagine? In Steve’s interview, he said, the apartment sold itself. It was hard to imagine any negative feedback from brokers. Fredrik walked in, and he said, well, almost any. He and Fredrik had FaceTimed during the pandemic, but didn’t see each other anymore, and he was looking forward to meeting. In Fredrik’s interview, he said Steve dressed casually, but he liked the style. Steve was like McQueen, he was Tom Ford, and Ryan was Men’s Warehouse. Steve and Fredrik admired the view of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings, and Steve asked how L.A. was. Fredrik said he’d dedicated his life to NYC, and knew every stone. It was scary to basically start over at his age. Steve said it wasn’t like Fredrik had abandoned NYC, since he had a team there, and Fredrik said Ryan had been contacting developers directly, saying he’d left. He’d thought they were past that. Steve said he’d had issues with Ryan in the past, but liked him now. Fredrik said it wasn’t personal, but he wanted to call it out for what it was. In his interview, Steve said the apartment he was the broker for had come from Fredrik, who’d taken it over from another broker. It happened all the time. He said, Fredrik had five markets, and he was worried about a couple of developers? But Fredrik said he’d taken the high road for ten years, and it was a pattern. It was time for Ryan to stop. Steve said Ryan wasn’t there to defend himself, and in his opinion, it was petty. In his interview, Fredrik said, with all due respect, he thought Steve didn’t fully understand. He was talking about multiple buildings, and hundreds of millions of dollars. Steve said he wasn’t taking sides, but thought the conversation was for Fredrik and Ryan. He told Fredrik that he expected Ryan to be there at some point.

Steve told Fredrik that he thought the time and energy Fredrik was extending on Ryan wasn’t worth it. At this point, Ryan came in – like this wasn’t planned – and Fredrik said they were just talking about him. In Ryan’s interview, he said he didn’t know Fredrik was town. Fredrik asked if he could speak to Ryan before Steve showed him the apartment, and Ryan was like, what’s happening? He asked how Fredrik had been, and Fredrik said he was missing his kids, so if he seemed emotional… Ryan said he was always emotional. I concur. Fredrik said it had come to his attention that Ryan was going after his developers, in particular Yan from 32 East 1^st Street. Ryan said he didn’t pitch the building, but when he’d started his business, they sent the same email to all of the developers, telling them about the new place, and saying he’d love to work with them in the future. He didn’t need to poach Fredrik’s listings. In his interview, Ryan said they’d sent the same email to every developer, saying it had been a pleasure to meet them, and he’d like to work together in the future. Fredrik was the only one who took issue with it. Fredrik asked if Ryan could deny saying he’d left NYC and his team. Ryan said, since Fredrik had moved, the primary reason anyone reached out to him was that they thought they were hiring Fredrik, but he’d moved to L.A. In his interview, Ryan said, if he moved, he wouldn’t be surprised if his projects went to other brokers. It would be the risk he was willing to take. If Fredrik didn’t like what was going on, don’t take it out on him; look in the mirror. Fredrik said he wished Ryan would just tell him the truth. Why was he doing this now? Ryan said if a developer came to him, saying they were interested in interviewing other brokers, he would say yes. Fredrik said he thought they were friends. He’d always said no when the shoe was on the other foot. In Ryan’s interview, he said his first interaction with Fredrik was when he was brand new, and Fredrik was a big broker. He was having lunch with his first sale, his client Bonnie. We flashed back to that in 2016. Ryan invited Fredrik to sit down, and Fredrik blew his own horn to Ryan’s client, and gave her his card, in case she wanted to sell the apartment and not just list it. Ryan said, talk about unethical. He would never do that. Fredrik asked Ryan not to put him down, and Ryan insisted he never had. In Fredrik’s interview, he said Ryan had been doing it for ten years. He asked Steve why he was smiling, and Steve said he was Switzerland. In his interview, Steve wondered when Fredrik ever said no to making money. On the other hand, developers didn’t just end up on an email list by accident. In Fredrik’s interview, he said there hasn’t been a ton of resolution, but he felt better. He’d defended his business and reputation, and maybe Ryan would think twice about going after his developers. In Ryan’s interview, he said, confident is silent, and insecurities are loud. Fredrik thanked Ryan and jetted. Ryan said Steve did it on purpose, but Steve maintained he didn’t realize they had any beef.

On the Upper East Side, Tyler met Kemba at the townhouse. He said, at the end, he’d be able to walk away from whatever decision was made, but she’d have to live with it for a while. In his interview, he told us, a flapper party and a musical brought the boys to the yard. He finally had good news. Evan joined them, and Tyler said he knew Evan’s mom Linda was emotional about the property, and Evan confirmed that she was both financially and emotionally invested. They called Linda, and Tyler reminded her that the NYC market was challenging, but they’d gotten what he considered a very good offer. It was all cash, and the buyer wanted to use the home like they did. They had children and grandchildren, and wanted to use it as the family gathering home. The legacy would live on. He told her it was non-contingent at $6.65 million. He asked if he heard a sigh of happiness, but Linda said, not quite, but let’s talk. She thought the offer was somewhat low, and Tyler said, as a broker, he thought a client should counter every offer, because you didn’t know where the negotiation might land. Linda didn’t want to take less than $6.85 million; they’d put a lot of money and effort into the house. Tyler said, and it showed. He called broker Michael, and said the seller wanted to pursue the deal, and was countering at $6.85 million. It was a turnkey property, and everything else in the neighborhood under $7 million required a lot of work. Michael said he wanted to be honest, and his clients were looking at other properties. There were larger houses in the area, and with the market being in the position it was, he thought there had to be something to push his clients over the edge. Tyler said he didn’t like to go back and forth too many times with an emotional seller, or the deal might be over. Michael hinted that his clients had loved the fixtures. Tyler went back to Evan, with Linda on the phone, and asked how much the fixtures had cost. Evan thought it had been upward of $30K all together, and Tyler said the offer was $6.7 including the fixtures. He thought it would be a huge win, and the people would take great care of the home. Linda asked Evan what he thought, and he said, considering the market, he thought it was a solid offer, and they should take it. Linda said he was the professional, so she’d take his advice. Tyler called Michael back, telling him, $6.7 million, all cash, and it included the handmade light fixtures. In Tyler’s interview, he said light fixtures in NYC were a hot topic. Anything fastened to the walls was excluded, and a broker needed to have a conversation about it in every sale. He had to hope it was enough. Michael’s clients accepted the deal, and Tyler would be getting a $201K commission. He said he was proud, and Linda said she was shedding a tear, but she was pleased. In his interview, Tyler said he really liked Evan, and was happy for Kemba. She deserved someone special, and it was a special family.

KJ met Jacopo, the representative for Giovanni who was selling his Tribeca loft, and had given KJ two weeks to do it. It was listed at $10 million, but if she could get $30K in rent, he’d take it. KJ went to Jacopo’s showroom. He represented several high-end Italian brands, so I couldn’t blame her for cruising the clothing racks before she talked business. She said the offer was from an Italian client for renting at $23k month. She knew it was a far cry from $30K, but rentals were dicey at that price point, considering the market. She thought they should counter at $27.5K, and Jacopo gave her the go ahead. She called broker Alexandra, who said in Italy, people read articles about the NYC real estate market, and the concessions offered. She thought her client wouldn’t be comfortable at any more than $25K a month. In KJ’s interview, she said Giovanni could be stubborn when it came to price, but no vacancy was important in the market. She told Alexandra that they’d need significant liability insurance, and a character reference from someone in Italy, and Alexandra said her client would do whatever was necessary. In her interview, KJ said, losing $5000 a month was better than losing $25K if the loft was empty. She hoped Giovanni saw it the same way. Jacopo said Giovanni had the last word, and she presented the offer on a video chat with him. He said she’d been given a difficult task, and they’d asked a lot from her, although the offer was low. She said it would be a low-use apartment; a pied-a-terre, since the client lived in Italy. And the rental market in Tribeca was soft. If he waited, there was a chance he’d see no activity for two or three months. Giovanni told her, vet the profile, but he was inclined to accept the proposal. They had a deal. KJ’s commission was $108k, and in her interview, she said she would take her commission in the form of beautiful Italian cashmere. She asked Jacopo if she got a present, and he gifted her with a pretty nice coat.

Next time, Manhattan high end design comes to Brooklyn, an ice hockey game, and Ryan says he and Fredrik will never be best friends; they’re competitors.

⚰️ New Dead…

This isn’t super new news, but I hadn’t heard about it before. Day of the Dead was the third in the Night of the Living Dead trilogy by George Romero, but it’s not shown very often. This looks really promising, very old school zombie stuff, but I’ve learned not to get too attached to anything on the SyFy channel. Being Human… Channel Zero… Z Nation… <sob!> I will never forgive them for that one.

🤸 Freedom For Me…

I got my second round of vaccine, and it smells like freedom. The weekend, or the tag on the end of another five days, depending on where you’re at, is also here. So no matter where you are at, do something you enjoy. The world might look different these days, but it can still be entertaining. Until we meet for the beginning of the Dead end, stay safe, stay on the sunny side of the street, and stay not letting your lack of transparency be a deal breaker.
