What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jordan’s knight in shining armor, Curtis, arrives. He tells her the armor is spiritual. He has something amazing in mind, and holds up a leather bag.

Tracy mulls over Samira giving her Edward’s journal. There’s nothing in it to explain why Samira’s mother had it. Tracy looks into a box, and takes out a carrying case that says ELQ on it. Monica startles her, saying she knows what Tracy is doing, and to be honest for everyone’s sake.

Brad hassles Finn. He says Finn should have been booted from the hospital. Finn tells him to take it to Monica. Brad says he only got off the hook because he donated the money to the hospital. Finn gets the glory, while Brad is out of a condo. Finn suggests Brad repeat everything while he does this – and walks away. He runs into Griff, who says he’s Finn’s new supervisor.

Michael asks Sonny if he’s still thinking about going to South America. He says Sonny should leave Port Charles immediately, before the mess he made gets worse.

At the station, Carly tells Jax that Josslyn wants her to help with anything possible, so she’s gotten him an attorney. She opens the door to the interrogation room, and Nelle is there.

Tracy asks Monica how she’s not being honest. Monica says she’s grieving for her father all over again. Tracy says it’s time to face the ugly truth; Monica has learned how to read her. She says she’s trying to prove things in her own way. Samira appears, and thanks them for putting her up for the night. Tracy says she’s thought of new possibilities. Samira thinks she’s rethinking the painting, but Tracy explains that it can be traced back to her because she declared it with customs. She says even if it was possible, she’s not giving up her father’s legacy.

Hayden looks at a picture of her and Finn on her phone.

Griff is responsible for Finn’s drug testing. He says he’s not judging, and he’s there for Finn. Finn says he gets it. Griff has the thankless job of watching while he pees in a cup, but he doesn’t have to share his feelings; he doesn’t need a priest. Brad acts all skanky, listening from around the corner.

Michael tells Sonny that Jax was incarcerated overnight. He says Sonny put the whole thing in motion. Sonny says that Jax did that a long time ago, and now he has to pay.

Nathan tells Carly that Nelle has to make a statement. Nelle says she wants everyone to hear what she has to say.

Griff tells Finn that if he pushes away everyone trying to help, his recovery is going to be difficult. Brad takes notes.

Curtis produces a bowling ball. Jordan asks for pointers. Curtis gives her the ball, and some tips. She drops it, and it rolls away. She says she’s sorry to her neighbors downstairs, and Curtis says they’d better get used to noise. They start to kiss, but TJ knocks on the door.

Monica asks for a moment with Tracy. She tells Tracy that she knows how important the painting is, but this is an extreme situation. Tracy brings up the customs issue, and Monica says that if Samira gets caught, they can say she stole it. Tracy says that if Samira ends up in prison, that would be making a bad situation worse. Monica says she’s right, and Tracy wants that for her ringtone. She says it’s happening too fast. Samira showed up out of the blue and for all they know, she’s working with Larry. Monica suggests asking her some more questions.

Monica sits Samira down and says they want to know about her family life. Samira says she’d rather talk about their family. She sees how much Tracy loved her father, and talks about his kind eyes. Tracy says that Samira doesn’t know anything about Edward and never will.

Finn comes to Hayden’s office. He wants to talk about their last conversation. She says he needs to focus on his rehabilitation, and unless it’s hospital business, there’s nothing to discuss. He says compared to not talking to her getting off drugs should be easy. He’s wondering if when he gets through this, if she would give him a chance to make things right between them.

Nathan starts recording Nelle’s statement.

Griff asks Brad what he wants. Brad says it gives him no pleasure, but he feels it’s his duty to tell him what he knows about Finn.

Finn isn’t asking Hayden to be there while he’s in rehab, but wants to know if he’ll have a chance later. She says she’s been thinking about her decisions. She tells him how her father had always insisted on a huge Passover celebration, and he would talk about family, work, and unity, and how hard work pays off. Meanwhile, he was ripping people off right and left. All that talk about what truly mattered was a lie, and she ended up just like him, a liar and a user. Then she met Finn, but even though he brings out the best in her, she can’t make promises she might not be able to keep.

Tracy tells Samira that Monica forgot her manners, and Monica says people often wonder if she was raised by wolves. Tracy says that Monica married into the pack, but she requested breakfast for Samira. Tracy asks if she would like some orange juice, but Samira says she couldn’t eat a thing.

Michael asks Sonny why have Jax arrested for something he would have done himself? Sonny says that wasn’t his intention; he only wanted the confession as leverage. Michael wonders for what, since he wanted Jax to leave. Michael says that Jax isn’t the reason that Sonny and Carly broke up. Sonny says the reason is over; he didn’t sleep with Nelle. Michael says it’s about Morgan.

We don’t hear Nelle’s whole statement, but she ends with saying that she won’t be pursuing legal action. Carly asks if Jax is free to go, but Nathan says not yet. Carly says she’ll be back, leaving Jax and Nelle alone. Jax asks Nelle why.

Carly asks Nathan if it was enough. She says Sonny has a recording of Jax’s alleged confession, but she wants to know if Jax can be prosecuted using Nelle’s statement.

TJ returns Jordan’s laptop that he borrowed. He says he finished up early, and asks if they’re a couple now. They both stammer, and TJ says he’s been there. Jordan says they were just discussing going on their first date. They haven’t figured out if it’s serious yet, but would he be okay with that?

Tracy understands that Samira is worried and can’t eat. She says she’s the same way, but starving herself isn’t going to help her or her daughter. Samira asks for some water, and Tracy gets it. Geez, could she spare it? There’s like two inches in the glass. She says that she got Samira some new clothes and maybe she’d like to change. Monica leaves to make some calls.

Samira thanks Tracy for her generosity. She was hoping to convince Tracy of her sincerity. with the journal and ring. Tracy says she’d be happy to compensate her, but Samira says her father would want her to have them. Tracy says he wanted her to have the painting. Samira says maybe they can explore some other solutions. When she goes upstairs, Tracy puts the water glass in a plastic bag.

Griff tells Brad that he’s not at liberty to discuss Finn, and it would be inappropriate for Brad to ask about him. Brad says he’s on his way to the lab, and he’ll take the sample there, as he takes it from Griff’s hand. Why is Griff letting him do that??? Especially after what he just said.

Finn tells Hayden that he’s sorry for the interruption. He’ll send her a budgetary proposal through interoffice mail, so she doesn’t have to see him. Hayden says in order to stay clean, he has to follow the rules, and asks if he can do it.

Michael tells Sonny that if Morgan was still alive, he and Carly wouldn’t be doing this. They never did this kind of damage, and she’s forgiven him for worse than Nelle. She can’t get past it because Morgan is dead. When she wouldn’t forgive him, Sonny did something worse. He wanted to push her away, but it’s not going to lessen the grief; it will only add to it.

Nelle tells Jax that there are a lot of reasons why she wants to let it go, but she doesn’t want to hurt Josslyn anymore. She says what happened is on her father, not Jax. Jax says he’s still partly to blame. Nelle says he was willing to do anything for his daughter, and her father saw her as a way to get money. She’s not going to punish him for doing what she would have wanted her father to do. She tells him to tell Josslyn. She says something bad happened to her, and she had the choice to do something good, but instead chose to feed her own anger, lashing out and hurting people. She ended up hurting herself just as badly. She says an old friend told her that you can carry hurt with you or focus on the good and move on, and she’s trying to do that.

Nathan tells Carly that if victim refuses to testify, it shouldn’t go any further.

Finn tells Hayden not to worry. She says that she needs to know he’ll stick with it, with or without her. He says he’ll be fine with her or not. He leaves, and Griff walks in, wanting to talk about the budget. He can see that Hayden is upset, and he says he knows she’s worried about Finn. Well, she should be more worried than she is, since Griff is so loosey-goosey with Finn’s drug test.

TJ tells Jordan that the situation is odd, but he loves the both of them, and wants them to be happy. He hopes it works out, since it will be awkward if it doesn’t. He’s got to leave, and Curtis tells him be good, study hard, and you are the future. Curtis tells Jordan that they had to tell TJ, and that he seemed surprised, but he’s basically coming around. Jordan says he’s concerned about what happens if it doesn’t work out, and Curtis says she seems like she is too. She admits that she is.

Tracy sees Finn at the hospital. She says a situation has come up where she needs his help.

Michael tells Sonny that Josslyn is heartbroken. She already lost Morgan. He says Sonny isn’t thinking with his right mind. He’s grieving, and it’s messing with judgement and sense of perspective. It has nothing to do with him being bi-polar, but losing his son. Michael says he needs to find a better way to deal with the loss, rather than hurting everyone Morgan loved. Michael tells Sonny that he can try to fix it, but first he needs to know where Jax is in regard to the charges.

Nathan tells Carly that he’s taking Jax to the lawyer. Carly has something to say to Nelle.

Jordan tells Curtis they’ve been through a lot. Her attraction to him is definitely real, and they’ve both made a lot of mistakes in life. If they start this, and it blows up in their faces, she doesn’t want it to destroy their friendship. Curtis says that he shares her concern. She asks what now? He says there’s only one way to find out if it’s a mistake or real – do some serious bowling. I love Curtis.

Hayden says she can’t discuss it right now. Griff understands, but he’s hoping for the best. He thinks if Finn stays on the straight and narrow, it will be fine.

Tracy asks Finn to focus. She needs a DNA test done.

Monica wonders where Tracy went. The doorbell rings. It’s a man looking for Samira. He wants to speak to her now.

Michael tells Sonny that Jax is being released.

Carly thanks Nelle for not pressing charges, and Nelle says she wants the pain to stop. Carly says she’s on to her now. Almost everything Nelle has done, she did too. She says that Nelle wants to look good for Michael. She wants Michael to think he’s gotten through to her and she’s changed. She may want to believe she’s good enough for Michael, but she’s a damaged, screwed up little girl, who will end up trashing everything good she’s given. Carly says she’ll do everything she can to stop her.

Tomorrow, Tracy wants no questions asked, Franco thinks Jake is in serious trouble, and Nelle asks Carly when it’s going to be enough.

I have to mention how annoying it is to me when Carly says Nelle is just like her, then denies her the same graciousness that she ended up getting. She slept with her mother’s husband, for Pete’s sake. (Who is Pete anyway?) I’m sure I could look for some deep-seated psychological reason, such as Carly really doesn’t like herself, and is treating the Nelle the way she thinks she should really be treated, but I don’t have time.

The Real Housewives of New York City

Luann and Dorinda go to Luann’s house in Sag Harbor. Bethenny and Carole are staying at Bethenny’s place, and Bethenny is threatening to lock up Carole and Donald Trump in the guest house together. Bethenny talks to Carole about Sonja being bitter because she wasn’t invited to the Berkshires.

Sonja tells Tinsley about the talk she had with Luann. In her interview, Tinsley says if Sonja wants a friendship with Luann, she’ll have to drop talking about Tom.

Dorinda tells Luann that Sonja keeps talking smack about her. Luann tells her that Tinsley is living with Sonja right now. Dorinda says Sonja keeps talking about being sober, but for all they know, she could be drinking tequila through of a crazy straw at this very moment. She received a picture of Sonja and a stripper at Luann’s shower, and thinks Sonja’s life is in chaos.

Tinsley asks Sonja how she’s going to feel about seeing Dorinda. Sonja regrets not having her at the tea party, and says that two wrongs don’t make a right. Sonja and Tinsley compare underwear.

Carole wants a mellow weekend, since she has election stress. She’s feeling malaise. Please. She talks about Ramona getting irritated with her at the tea party when she was talking about the election. In her interview, Carole says Ramona isn’t interested in politics, and Bethenny says it’s all Carole talks about – all roads lead to the election. She adds that Carole doesn’t want to talk to anyone who isn’t on what she perceives as her political level. I can tell I’ll be gritting my teeth through this season, the same way I do when I go to Facebook.

Luann, daughter Victoria, and Dorinda go for a boat ride. Dorinda misses having a boat. They talk about Luann losing her countess title, which just now dawned on her daughter. In her interview, Luann says that Countess is part of who she is, and once a countess, always a countess. We all admire the fall colors in Sag Harbor.

Carole and Bethenny go for some acupuncture. Can they stick a needle in Carole’s brain so that she stops talking? Carole tells the acupuncturist that she’s stressed. In her interview, Bethenny says she’s never heard Carole say she’s stressed, and has wondered at times if she even had a pulse. Bethenny gets something done on her back. The acupuncturist looks at Carole’s tongue, and she also shows him fungus on her toe. Bethenny tells her that he’s not a podiatrist, and he’s like yeah, you need a different kind of healer for that. In her interview, Carole says Bethenny is in a secret, quiet hell due to suckerfish ex Jason Hoppy. Bethenny gets some cupping done. She wonders if Luann is going to say anything about the Tom thing in Miami when they get together, but Carole thinks she’ll keep it moving rather than face having a real conversation.

Bethenny and Carole arrive first for dinner. They see Ramona’s ex business partner at another table. Ramona arrives from visiting Avery. She claims the kids in Avery’s dorm look at her as a friend, but my guess is that they look at her as an anomaly, and probably an embarrassment. They look at pictures on Ramona’s phone while she fishes for compliments.

Dorinda and Luann arrive. Dorinda is anxious. She hasn’t seen Bethenny since the reunion, and there was a lot of tension. She and Carole talk about the election being scary, stressful, and close. They move on, discussing Luann’s house addition. Bethenny asks Ramona if she’s coming to the election party, but she feels like Carole already hit her over the head with it. Bethenny says that Carole doesn’t want people there who aren’t “informed,” and Ramona says everyone has their own interpretation. In her interview, Carole says her party is bi-partisan and everyone is invited…sort of. Huh? I certainly can’t imagine it being bi-partisan in any way.

Ramona asks Bethenny if her daughter has been approached by anyone since Bethenny did “soft porn” in her past, and it was in the tabloids recently. I missed that. She says yes, Diane Sawyer tracked her daughter down at the schoolyard. Ramona expresses concern, but Bethenny blows it off. In her interview, Bethenny says if anyone had brought it up, she would have just made some self-deprecating remarks, but Ramona is trying to embarrass her and has hit a new low. She says she needed the money and had wanted to be an actress at one time. Ramona says she doesn’t like Bethenny being defensive. Bethenny says it was a cheesy movie where she was a murderer. Ramona is all insulted because Bethenny doesn’t care. In her interview, Ramona says good friends should be able to ask each other questions. Luann says she doesn’t think Bethenny wanted Ramona to bring up her ex porno life, and Bethenny is like, you do realize I can hear you, right?

Bethenny says she thought Luann wrote a book on etiquette. Luann asks if what she said was wrong, and Bethenny says not if she’d said it to her, but it’s wrong to speak about her like she’s not there. She tells Ramona that she looks a bit wild, and Ramona says she doesn’t like Bethenny’s attitude. In her interview, Dorinda says she’s starting to sweat, and Ramona has the delivery of a lead balloon. Ramona tells Carole that because she doesn’t have children, she doesn’t understand. In her interview, Carole compares Ramona to Donald Trump and I want to cry. I’m hoping I don’t have to stop watching this. Ramona says Bethenny is rude, and Luann seconds it, but Bethenny says she doesn’t care what they think about her. Luann declares that Bethenny has shown her true colors, and doesn’t care about anyone except herself. In her interview, Luann gripes about Bethenny not asking about the wedding plans. Ramona calls Bethenny a witch, and decides to talk to Luann, deliberately turning away from Bethenny. Bethenny says she’s been called a witch and wicked, and she’s leaving. In her interview, Luann talks about Bethenny insulting her in the Berkshires, and how she didn’t leave. That was pretty bad. She thinks Bethenny should put on her big girl pants and stay. Carole gets up to go next. She thinks suckerfish Hoppy is enough; Bethenny doesn’t need this from Ramona.

Tinsley and Sonja arrive at Sonja’s house in the Hamptons. Sonja can’t wait for Ramona’s dinner party (why?), even though she wasn’t invited to stay at Ramona’s house. Sonja shows Tinsley to her room, and acts like an idiot bouncing on the bed.

Ramona, Luann, and Dorinda go to a winery for lunch. They discuss the previous evening. Ramona acts like she didn’t say anything outlandish, and just presented a hypothetical situation of concern to Bethenny. Luann says that Bethenny can dish it out, but not take it. In her interview, Dorinda says she didn’t even get to take a breath before Ramona started talking about it.

Bethenny says Ramona likes to find dirt about someone and bring it up. Truth! This reminded me of when she walked off the first (I think) reunion because Alex McCord had done some nude art photos. Bethenny is glad she doesn’t have to go to Ramona’s. She did get Ramona a gift, and Carole suggests she put her own name on the card and bring it. She’s kidding, just in case you questioned that. Bethenny is going to pick Carole up from Ramona’s later.

Dorinda tells Luann and Ramona about Sonja’s smack talk on Facebook. Filing that under who cares? Dorinda brings it up on her phone, and says she’s done. She doesn’t want to ruin Ramona’s party, but she might not be able to help herself. What happened to her telling Luann that she was going to act like a lady? Dorinda says Sonja is going to get it tonight.

Sonja tells Tinsley that Dorinda doesn’t have manners, but she wants to get back to being social friends and move forward. Tinsley is concerned that Sonja will be upset if she likes Dorinda, but Sonja says that won’t happen. Tinsley is nervous, and Sonja says it’s her fault.

Ramona sets things up for her dinner party. People we don’t know arrive, along with Dorinda. Dorinda shows Ramona more comments about her that Sonja posted. She says she’s going to make an effort to be cordial. Like that has ever happened.

Commercial break that annoys me. The first one is Maya Rudolph advertising Seventh Generation cleaning products, when she also advertises Clorox. Aren’t those opposite ends of the cleaning spectrum? Then I see Jeffrey Tambor promoting Tide, and wonder how much more money he needs? I can’t stand it when wealthy, well-known actors take jobs away from starving artists.

Carole arrives at Ramona’s place. Dorinda tells her about Sonja’s online comments, and how she said she’d never go to Luann’s tacky wedding. Dorinda says she has a mole, as in an investigative person, and has a file on Sonja a mile wide. Dorinda isn’t on the martini train tonight because she’s stalking prey.

Sonja says in her interview, that her MO is to never confront. She doesn’t deal with the elephant in the room, and is all about decorum. She and Tinsley walk into Ramona’s house.

Next time, the dinner commences, Carole tells Bethenny that it’s a nuthouse while Bethenny watches from outside, Dorinda informs Sonja that you need an invitation to go to a wedding, and Ramona is disinvited to Carole’s election party.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Before the show, there’s an ad for it with Dillon and Kiki. They’re so made up, I don’t recognize them at first.

Lulu asks Charlotte what she’d like to do, and Charlotte says have a tea party next time. Valentin shows up, and she runs to him.

Lucy asks Dante to perform in the Nurses Ball. He says no, like he does every year. He wants her to clarify something about the robbery, and asks if she saw the robbers take a bottle of prescription pills.

Kiki is working on a sample quiz for a class, but Dillon is distracting her. He tells her that food and sex are basic needs, and he’s helping her out.

Sam and Jason take Danny to the park for an egg hunt. He wants to find a special egg for Scout. Alexis joins them. She says the good news is, she’s not drinking, but every time she convinces herself that Julian is gone, something happens to make her question it.

Jax brings Carly flowers. He asks how she’s feeling, and she says about Sonny or him?

On the docks, Sonny relives one of his many arguments with Carly. Michael is checking out some real estate, and asks what he’s doing there. Sonny says he’s thinking of going to South America and meeting with his business partner. Michael thinks that’s sudden, but Sonny is afraid if he sticks around, he’ll kill somebody.

Kiki tells Dillon that at the top of her hierarchy of needs, is passing her class. Dillon backs off, but then returns. He wants to try out his new camera. Kiki says he’s needy, and he says he’s a Quartermaine. She says if she can finish fifteen questions, she’ll play outside with him.

Lucy tells Dante that the robbery is a blur, and she doesn’t want to dwell on it. Dante says the pills belonged to Morgan and shouldn’t have been there. He asks her to look at a picture of the bottle. Like she doesn’t know what a standard amber prescription bottle looks like. She says she’s late for a meeting with Ava, and like the Candyman, Ava appears as soon as Lucy says her name. Lucy tells Dante that they’re continuing their conversation about an important piece of art. Dante says that he thought they’d been talking about the Nurses Ball.

Lulu says Valentin is early. Charlotte tells him about the bunny. She shows him the eggs that Lulu painted and drops one. Charlotte is upset that she cracked the egg, so Lulu slams one on the floor, saying they can make egg salad now. Charlotte asks if they eat that at tea parties, and Lulu tells her that they’ll find out on her next visit.

Alexis tells Sam about the missing photo. She thinks it was of her and Julian.

Michael asks if Sonny told Carly that he didn’t sleep with Nelle, but Sonny says she was focused on Jax. He says he didn’t cheat on Carly, but she cheated on him.

Carly arranges the flowers and thanks Jax. He says it’s the least he can do after the trouble he’s caused. She says she knows he doesn’t mind that she and Sonny are fighting, and he tells her that he hopes she’ll see the light. She says she’s still furious with Sonny, and Nelle is a lying snake. The lying snake rings the doorbell. She’s also gotten highlights, so Valentin must pay well.

Lulu says they still have ten minutes, and Charlotte says her papa is there. Lulu thinks he wouldn’t mind, but Charlotte wants to go home. She thanks Lulu for the Easter basket. Valentin and Charlotte leave, and Lulu asks Mrs. Watkins how it went.

Ava tells Dante that she’s donating a piece of art to the ball; she does it every year. Lucy says she can count on the Jerome gallery. Dante asks Lucy about the pills again, but she says she doesn’t know anything, and is sorry for his loss. He says he’ll be seeing them both soon.

Dillon takes pictures of Kiki. He says she’s going to be a great nurse’s aide. He asks if she’s nervous about the Quartermaine party.

Sam wonders if the photo just fell out of the album, but Alexis says she wouldn’t have said anything if she thought that. Jason asks if there were signs of a break-in, but Alexis says Julian could have used his own key.

Michael asks Sonny if it’s really too late, and if Carly recommitted to Jax. He says maybe they can forgive each other now that the truth is out.

Carly is like, oh, look who’s here. Nelle says that Carly needs to know what she did was because of her father, who raised her to hate Carly. Jax says it’s his fault. Nelle says she believes him, but wouldn’t change anything because Josslyn is alive. She says now that Carly knows, maybe she and Sonny can get back together. Carly says she doesn’t give a damn. He lied and covered it up, but she doesn’t want to discuss it with Nelle. Nelle used Morgan’s death to target them. She used the worst possible grief, and Carly is going to make her pay.

Michael thinks maybe they just need time, but Sonny says when it comes to Jax, he can’t forgive and forget. Michael says Jax just wanted to save Josslyn’s life. Sonny is ignorant of what happened, so Michael explains that Jax is the one who made the deal for the kidney. Sonny says that Jax unleashed Nelle into their lives.

Carly asks if that’s Nelle’s angle – she’s not a home-wrecking slut after all. Jax tries to intervene, and says they still owe Josslyn’s life to her.

Valentin takes Charlotte out for a snack, and they discuss egg hunts. He says they can have one on the back lawn at Windemere. Charlotte misses her mom, and Valentin says he’s sorry. She wonders how Lulu can be her mother when she already had one.

Lulu talks to Laura on the phone, and Dante comes in. Lulu is crying, and tells him that they’re happy tears.

Dillon tells Kiki that his mom has been uncharacteristically pleasant since her trip, and she’s excited about planning the engagement party. Kiki wants to change, and Dillon is staying to take more photos.

Sam and Alexis discuss how the picture might have disappeared. Jason says he’s sure there’s a simple explanation for everything. Danny gives Alexis some fake flowers, and says he picked them for her. Someone is watching them. But seriously? They couldn’t afford real flowers? I guess they blew the flower budget on Carly’s bouquet.

Dillon takes some pictures, and joins Alexis and company. He says he hopes they didn’t mind him taking photos, and they all want copies. Sam looks at the pictures and says they’re great. She downloads them to her phone, explaining that this is how you do it in the digital age.

Jax says Frank spoon-fed Nelle lies. Carly says she used them against the family. Jax feels equally to blame, and says he should have come forward. He says he could never put a price on what she did, but can give her money for a fresh start. Nelle says she can’t accept it. Jax doesn’t understand. She says all the money in the world can’t change what they did, but if she doesn’t try to undo the damage she’ll never forgive herself. Carly tells Jax not to give in to Nelle’s sanctimonious crap; she’s staying for Michael.

Michael explains Jax’s part in buying the kidney to Sonny. He says that Jax did what he had to for Josslyn. Sonny says he knew everything and didn’t say a word.

Valentin says Claudette loved her very much, but she was created in a way that makes her super special, and also makes Lulu her mother. He suggests Nina can help him answer her questions when they get home. Charlotte is glad he married Nina and that she’s her new mommy, but she feels bad. She liked being with Lulu.

Lulu tells Dante about the visit. She says there’s hope that her daughter is going to learn to love her. Dante is happy for their family, and happy to see her smile again. He says almost everything is right in the world. She asks if there’s something wrong.

Lucy can’t believe she got dragged into this mess. Ava says she should have taken the first offer, and none of this would have happened. She tells Lucy to keep her mouth shut, and Dante will move on. Lucy says they’re talking about his brother’s death, and she’s not going to perjure herself because Ava was hooking up with Morgan. Ava tells her not to forget who she is and where she came from. She can make Lucy disappear – and will.

Sonny says he thought he and Jax had agreed on something for once – not wanting Nelle around. Now he knows why. Jax was afraid Nelle knew something. He stayed quiet, covered his ass, and they had to deal with the fallout. He says Carly knew, and slept with him anyway. He stalks off.

Carly says instead of hurting her, Nelle’s new goal is to get Michael back. What she did to Sonny is dicey, but they didn’t have sex. Jax says if she changes her mind let him know. Carly says she wants a bigger payoff. She should know, because Nelle is like Carly used to be. She says Nelle doesn’t deserve Michael, but he was dropped into her lap. She’s not passing up the best thing that happened to her, and she’s working on damage control. She’s working the victim card big time. Nelle says she meant what she said; she wants to make amends. Carly says go for it, but Michael is still too good for her. She’ll never get her hooks into him. She tells Nelle to get out. Jax asks if she feels better.

Valentin asks why Charlotte is upset, and Charlotte says it’s not fair to Nina and her mommy. She says Valentin doesn’t like Lulu. He says it’s true they don’t get along, but she can feel however she wants. He’s sorry for confusing her. She says she didn’t like Lulu before, but she was nice today. He says she wanted Charlotte to have a good time and Nina will be thrilled.

Lucy wonders if Ava would really go that far. Ava says Sonny will make Morgan’s death her fault. Lucy says her affair pales in comparison, so there must be more to it. She asks what’s the real reason that Ava had the pills

Dante explains to Lulu that the pills showed up in the robbery evidence. Morgan was there the night he died, but it’s six months later. He says that Ava is acting squirrely, and he’s going to figure it out.

Alexis and Sam look at the photos on Sam’s phone. Alexis wants Dillon to take a Christmas card photo. Jason takes the phone. He sees someone in the background, and says it looks like the guy in the security footage.

Kiki arrives for the party. Dillon tells her she looks perfect (and she does), but she says that she’s nervous. She says she knows the Quartermaines yelling at each other is a cherished tradition, but it makes her jittery. They kiss, and Dillon says they have time before the party. He takes her upstairs.

Lucy asks what the real story is. She saw Ava’s relief in throwing the pills in the trash, and Scotty was desperate to get them. Ava says if Sonny knew that she and Morgan were seeing each other, her life would be over. Lucy doesn’t believe that Ava would land in jail for rekindling the romance, so why is she so frightened? She asks what Ava did. Ava tells her to let it go.

Nelle sees Valentin and Charlotte. She asks if Charlotte wants to go to the park, but Charlotte wants to go home. Valentin says Nina has a tea party waiting. Charlotte says next visit they owe Lulu another ten minutes.

Lulu tells Dante that if she can make progress with Charlotte, he can get answers about his brother. Michael calls. He says there’s a problem. It’s Sonny.

Carly gets that Jax feels guilty, and he’s not wrong, but Nelle had better stay away from Michael. Jax says it’s not up to her. She says that Michael is kind and forgiving, and Nelle is a user. She’s just like Carly was. Jax says she doesn’t destroy what she loves; she fights for it. Sonny bangs on the door.

He walks right in past Carly, points at Jax, and says it’s all his fault.

Jason messes with the picture, making it bigger. Julian’s face is peeking out of the bushes.

On Monday, Carly wants Sonny to get out of her house, Tracy hangs the painting, and Jason has an idea.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Franco creates a weird self-portrait. There’s a knock at the door, and Franco yanks it open, asking what is it? What it is, is Elizabeth. I guess he wasn’t expecting her.

Tracy rereads Edward’s letter. It says that he’s sure she’ll know where the painting should go. She says it’s coming home, and she knows exactly where to put it. Laura hears crying in the hallway again.

Nelle says that Michael should be happy to see her like this, but he doesn’t like to see anyone in pain. She says he’s too nice for his own good. She tells him that everything she’s known to be true in her life has turned out to be a lie. Not that it applies to this particular scene, but I keep thinking Sonny should at least have a clue that Nelle might have knocked him out and it never happened. It seems ridiculous that he’s just taking her word for it, and keeps wondering why he can’t remember anything.

Jax tells Carly that he always thought he was the more rational one, but Carly has never done anything this radical. He asks if they can bounce back from this, and if she can forgive him.

Dante tells Sonny the analysis on the pills should be back any minute. Ava overhears.

Elizabeth says she didn’t know Franco was working. She asks if he wants her to come back, but he asks her to come in. She thought he might want to know about Jake’s first appointment with Andre. She tells Franco that Andre made friends with Jake using action figures, and hopes he starts to open up. Franco tells her that she shouldn’t rush him. He tells her that Jake called him and asked him to come over to finish the timeline, but he followed the rules, and turned Jake away.

Tracy tells Laura about putting the painting over the fireplace in the den, and that Monica can be reminded of her every day at breakfast. Laura says that she heard the crying again. Tracy says it’s the wind. The head monk overhears, and says some of his students get homesick. He asks if Tracy will reconsider leaving the painting.

Nelle repeats what Jax told her, but he already knows. She says her father was never perfect, but knowing he needed her made her feel proud and closer to him. She felt like he loved her, but he told her that Carly cheated them both. She wanted revenge for the wrongdoing done to her family, but it was her own father who did it.

Jax tells Carly that he was desperate. He had no idea Frank would use his own daughter. He keeps saying that, but I’m not sure how that makes it any more okay. Carly says no matter what he did, she’s grateful. Josslyn is alive. Now Carly has to live with herself, knowing she benefited from Nelle’s pain. Jax says he’s lost so much, he doesn’t want to lose her.

Sonny tells Dante that a bottle of Morgan’s pills was unaccounted for. Maybe now they’ll find out what happened. Valerie brings the report to Dante, and sees Ava. Ava says she remembered she has an appointment, and Valerie asks what the hurry is. Dante tells Sonny that the lab did a full wipe down, and Sonny asks if there’s a match.

Elizabeth says Franco made the right decision. For now, this is how they have to do things. He says she’s the best mother on the planet.

Tracy tells the head monk that the painting is her last connection to her father, and nothing he says can make her part with it. He tells her that they could use the money, and she gives him a check. He thanks her for her generosity, although we don’t know how generous she is. I’m guessing not $20 million with of generous. On the side, Laura says it’s hardly Tracy’s last connection to her father; she has the beautiful letter he wrote, and she can treasure his words in her heart. Tracy says she’d prefer a tangible reminder, and I get confused, since the letter is tangible. Laura thinks that Edward would have wanted her to leave the painting. Tracy tells the head monk she knows that the painting is valuable, but to her, it’s priceless. He says he understands. Another monk stares at the painting.

Dante tells Sonny that there were no clear prints, and the bottle changed hands too many times for them to get any information. Valerie has Ava’s charm bracelet, but says she has to fill out a form to get anything back.

Franco tells Elizabeth that he wants to be there with her when the boys are growing up, but Jason concerns him. She says Andre will convince Jason otherwise. He told Sam and Jason that Jake senses tension in the household, and when things settle down, he’ll probably open up. She says Jake needs space for now, but she has no intention of cutting Franco out of her life.

Nelle tells Michael that Jax gave her father enough money to float them for years. He disappeared, and when he came back said that Carly had cheated him. She says that’s when she found this, and shows Michael a poker chip. She says when she found it, she thought he played the odds with what little they had, and came back with nothing. She didn’t want to believe he could be that stupid and selfish, so she convinced herself he was trying to make up for what Carly had cheated him out of. She never thought about it again, but kept the chip to remind her of what Carly had done. She says she literally gave up a part of herself, and only has the chip to show for it. She says this is why she’s been stuck in the past and couldn’t live her own life. She flings the poker chip away.

Carly says Jax is still processing everything, but Jax says he shouldn’t put it on her. She knows he’s worried about Josslyn. Jax says that Josslyn was upset about Lady Jane, and asks if they can put off telling her about Nelle. Carly tells him that they’ll figure out how and when to tell her, but right now she needs to grieve. Jax says he’s the reason his mother is dead. Geez.

Franco says he’s glad he didn’t slam the door in Elizabeth’s face. She says interrupting artists is never a good idea, but wants to take a peek at the work. He wants to drape her and include her in the piece. She says she’ll see what she can do, and starts to disrobe.

Dante tells Sonny that the perp seems too stupid to understand a plea deal, and his lawyer isn’t much better. Sonny asks if he can take the bottle with him; maybe it will give Carly closure. Dante says they have to hang on to it for the trial. He says he’ll do what he can to speed things along.

Nelle says her father made her believe he was the only one who cared about her, and everyone else was just out to get her. She says her attitude was to hurt them before they hurt her. Michael asks why she didn’t consider other options. She should have realized Carly wasn’t like that once she got to know her. Nelle says she thought Carly just felt guilty. She saw people the way her father did, and was taught to see the worst in people. She carried her hatred around, and doesn’t even know who she is without it. Nothing seems real except how she feels about Michael.

Carly says Jax’s mother was sick. He says she was getting better until he told her about Nelle. He saw Carly getting close to her, and confessed to his mother. She forgave him, but she was devastated and blamed herself. She questioned what she did wrong as a mother with his brother, Jerry. He was her consolation, but he wasn’t the man she raised him to be either. He says he’s just as responsible for his mother’s death. Confession time for me too. I’ve been calling Jax “Jax” for so long, I’d forgotten his first name. When he mentioned Jerry, I looked it up. It’s Jasper. I don’t think anyone has ever called him that.

Michael says Nelle hurt his entire family, and he doesn’t get how she could do that. She says their friendship was real, and brings up their time in the cabin. He remembers her saying that she didn’t deserve to be happy. She reminds him of telling her that she could choose a new path. It was the first time she had hope. She says if only they’d met before she decided to go down that road. Michael says it’s too late; she did what she did, and there’s no way to take it back. She says maybe there is.

Elizabeth comes out in a blanket, and there’s a song part. Franco starts to include her in the painting, but I don’t think much in the way of artwork is going to happen. He tells her how beautiful she is, and she reveals her shoulders. He starts to paint. She looks at the finished product – the both of them, side-by-side, but Franco is upside down and Elizabeth is more colorful. She takes the blanket off.

Laura tells Tracy let’s just get the painting and go, but when they go back in the room, they only see an empty easel.

Nelle tells Michael what if she could make it go away? Michael tells her it’s already done. She asks him to wait. She thinks there’s something she can do to fix things. If any part of what they had is real, he’ll wait for her.

Sonny remembers Carly going through Morgan’s journal, saying that he’s taking the pills and not understanding why they’re not working. He remembers them talking about the missing bottle.

Carly tells Jax that he’s still grieving, and it’s messing with his head. He says he shouldn’t have burdened Lady Jane, and she took a turn for the worse after he told her. Then she was gone. He says he had no intention of saying anything, but realized he was hurting people he cared about, and had to tell the truth. He needs to make things right with Nelle as well. Carly tells him that Nelle is vindictive, and hopes she doesn’t turn it around. He says he’ll face the consequences.

Dante wants to ask Ava a few questions.

Tracy thinks the monks stole the painting. She says they’re going to the consulate. The head monk says that won’t be necessary. Some of his brethren forgot the 7th commandment. The monk who had been staring at the painting, who doesn’t speak English, blurts out something about there being dire consequences – in English. The head monk says they’ve already settled the matter, and it’s been an honor to meet J.L.’s daughter. He meant a lot to them.

Elizabeth has to relieve the babysitter. Franco says he’ll spring for overtime, but Elizabeth says she’s a teenager with a test tomorrow. She tells him that just because he can’t come over to her place, doesn’t mean she can’t come over to his place. She’s thinking they should work on another painting. Which in this case is a euphemism for getting busy.

Ava says she already gave a statement, but Dante says something doesn’t add up. Why was she meeting Lucy? Ava says they were talking business about the Nurses Ball. He thinks it’s a big coincidence that they found this the same night, and shows her the evidence bag.

Carly says that Jax didn’t set out to hurt anyone. Jax says people do terrible things for good reasons, but it doesn’t excuse their actions. She says he’s human, and Josslyn is alive because of him. His mother couldn’t hate him for that, and neither does she. They kiss.

Sonny is about to call Carly when the house phone rings. He tells Max that it’s fine. Nelle comes to the door. Sonny says he doesn’t want to see her, and doesn’t want her near his family. She says there’s something he needs to hear that will change everything. No, it won’t. Because what Carly is angry about is Sonny keeping it from her for so long, not whether or not he slept with Nelle.

Laura calls for a taxi. Tracy wants to get the painting back to US soil asap. Laura can’t get the crying out of her head, and how the monk said there would be dire consequences. Tracy says let’s just get out of here. A young girl watches from around the corner in the hallway.

Jake knocks on Franco’s door.

Ava says she doesn’t know what it is or why it was found. Dante says it’s Morgan’s lithium, and she says she doesn’t know. He says they were lovers, and asks if she can’t offer some insight. She says they hadn’t been together for almost a year. She says he was at The Floating Rib the night of his death, and maybe he left them there. She has no other explanation. She knows how painful it is, but can’t give any answers. She tells him to check with Mac and Felicia, or their cleaning service.

Nelle reminds Sonny of the night they spent together. He says it was the worst mistake of his life, but he doesn’t remember any details. She says there’s a reason for that.

Jax says sorry. Carly says don’t be. They kiss some more.

On Monday, Jake asks why Franco doesn’t want to be friends any more, Carly doesn’t want to stop, and Sonny tells Nelle she came to the wrong place for absolution.

March 31, 2017 – Valentin Agrees to Help Jason, the Weird World of V.C. Andrews & Quotes

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Elizabeth wonders why Franco is asking her to marry him right now. He says why not?

Jason asks Valentin for a favor, telling him that it’s about Jake. He explains that Jake spent the better part of four years with Helena, and he’s trying to find out what she did to him.

Lulu sees Nelle at Kelly’s and introduces herself. Nelle asks if Lulu is going to tell her off. Lulu says what happened is none of her business, and it’s not her place to judge, but she’d like to talk about her daughter, Charlotte.

Alexis enters a dark house. Her phone rings, but when she answers, she gets a dial tone. It rings again, and she asks if it’s Julian. It’s Sam, who is wearing an awesome white swing top with thumbhole sleeves. Sam wonders why Alexis called her Julian, and Alexis says old habits die hard. Sam wants to come by, but Alexis says she’ll come over to Sam’s house.

Sonny tells Michael about the break up with Carly. He says she’s mad as hell and called it quits. Michael says sorry, and Sonny says he doesn’t seem like it. Michael says he’s not exactly in shock. Now that things have settled down, there are no distractions. Losing Morgan could have brought them together or torn them apart, and they decided on the latter. Sonny says he didn’t want this, but Michael says it’s happening.

Lulu asks if Nelle has a minute. Since they’ll be seeing one another, they might as well get to know each other. Nelle was picking up scones for Charlotte’s birthday breakfast, since they’re her favorite. She thinks they remind Charlotte of her mom.

Laura tells Doc about the upcoming trip. He says that he’s not sure what surprises him more, the trip itself or that she’s going with Tracy. He asks if Luke is in jail again, and Laura says that would be amusing if his ex-wives showed up to break him out, but he isn’t involved.

Franco tells Elizabeth that it makes perfect sense. Any two people can shack up, but if they make it official, he’s her husband and can be stepfather to her children. She asks if it’s about the two of them, or him and Jason.

Valentin tells Jason that Helena was a horrible person. He was sent to boarding school, so they didn’t cross paths much. Jason asks about the island, and if there are any scarecrows on it. Valentin gives him a strange, amused look.

Alexis comes to Sam’s bearing diapers and cookies. She’s doing her grandma thing. Sam says she got the feeling that Alexis was drinking when they last talked. Alexis admits to having a bit of a relapse, but went to a meeting, and was coming back from one when Sam called. A new sponsor might be a good idea. A real one this time. Sam says it’s understandable with all she’s been through. Alexis says ironically Julian was again the one who convinced her to stop.

Michael tells Sonny that he’s not taking sides. Sonny asks if he talked to Carly, but he says he doesn’t have to; he already knows what they do. They’re both strong people, and sometimes turn that strength on each other, and they’re taking out the pain they feel about Morgan on each other. Sonny asks if Michael knows how much he hates hurting the people he loves, including him.

Nelle corrects herself, saying surrogate mother, and apologizes to Lulu. Lulu says it’s not her fault. She says there are so many things she doesn’t know about her own daughter, seemingly insignificant things. She said she would know them had she been there at the beginning, but Valentin kept Charlotte from her all of her life.

Doc is surprised that Laura is traipsing across the world because Tracy asked her to. He wonders how it came about. Laura says they seem like an unlikely pair, but they do have a relationship. She says it was Tracy’s fur coat that she wore to flash Doc, and Doc says he’ll be forever grateful. Laura tells him that Tracy has a situation that may or may not have to do with her father. She thinks she should help, because if Tracy goes it alone, she might miss the chance to reconnect with him. And she’s a sucker for Turkish coffee. She says the best part will be the homecoming, and they kiss.

Franco tells Elizabeth that he’s not asking her to marry him because of Jason or Jake. He’d love to be a permanent fixture in Jake’s life, but he’s asking because he loves her. She can show the world that she trusts him and chooses him over all others. She says she’s told everyone that she trusts him, and she does choose him over everything, including Jason; but Jason is Jake’s father, and she has to consider his feelings. Franco says that Jason doesn’t even believe that Jake has a problem.

Valentin tells Jason that’s a weird question about the scarecrows. Jason says thanks for the help, because he’s an impatient jackass. Valentin says that he never intended to be a father, but Helena took that decision away from him. Now, he loves Charlotte and she’s his life. He says he understands, and if Jason wants to search the island, he’ll set it up. He tells Jason that he might want to start with the olive grove.

Elizabeth says that it’s about Jake after all; Franco thinks that Jason isn’t handling it well, and that’s why he wants to marry her. Franco says yes and no. His feelings for her are real; he loves her, and he loves Jake too. He wants to make sure that Jake gets what he needs. Elizabeth says that Jason is still Jake’s father, and she has to regard his wishes. She thinks that Franco should keep his distance from Jake for now.

Sam tells Alexis that dreams can seem very real. Alexis says that sounds rational, but talks about the knocking at the door, and how no one was there. Then the second time, it was Valentin.

Valentin tells Jason that there’s an old olive grove that was planted before Cassadine’s got there, and it had a scarecrow in it. Legend had it that the scarecrow came alive one night, and it might have made an impression on Jake. Jason appreciates the help, and Valentine keeps the offer open. Jason wonders if Valentine has an agenda in helping him, but Valentin says that no child should be subject to Helena. Jason says he’ll do whatever it takes to help Jake.

Nelle tells Lulu that she knows a little about Charlotte’s childhood, but had no idea what was happening. Yeah, I guess she had other things to concentrate on, like the blow out with Carly and Sonny. Lulu says she’s glad that Nelle is taking care of Charlotte. She tells Nelle that when she found out she had daughter, she blew it. She was so excited, she ended up scaring her away. She didn’t think it through, and acted in the moment, making a huge mistake. Nelle can relate to not being able to take something back.

Sonny watches Michael work in some kind of weird proud dad way. He doesn’t want to leave it like this. Maybe Nelle wasn’t the main reason for breakup, but she helped it along. When truth came out, he knows Michael was hurt. Michael says he was sympathetic to a point, but can’t get past what she did. Sonny asks if he’s sure, and if Nelle staying in Port Charles changes anything.

Lulu apologizes for keeping Nelle, and thanks her for listening. Nelle asks how Michael is doing, but Lulu says she hardly sees him. She tells Nelle that Dante said he’s keeping to himself, and throwing himself into work. She hates that he’s grieving Morgan all alone, and Nelle says that she does too. Nelle leaves Kelly’s, and Lulu looks pleased with herself.

Michael tells Sonny that Nelle got a job as Charlotte’s nanny. Sonny says that Nelle probably still has an agenda (WOTD), and asks how Michael might feel running into her. Michael says they’re not like Sonny and Carly. He tells Sonny not to project, and says he can handle it. If he makes a mistake, he has to live with the fallout, and Sonny should know.

Elizabeth tells Franco that right now, his presence is causing an issue with Jake’s father, and she doesn’t want any more disruptions in Jake’s life. Franco says he wants the crappy cards on Father’s Day and to teach Jake how to drive. Elizabeth needs him to give Jake space until they find out what the drawings mean. Then they’ll have him to thank for getting the ball rolling. Franco says okay, they’ll do things her way, but no matter what, he doesn’t want to lose her. She says he won’t, and they kiss.

Jason interrupts, and says when Elizabeth gets a chance, they need to talk about Jake. I like Jason, but I don’t like when he acts irrational. And I like Franco more.

Sam doesn’t know what’s worse, a visit from Valentin, or Julian’s ghost. Alexis thinks about it and says Valentin. He wanted to do the family bonding thing, and gave her the keys to Windemere. She says she kicked him out of the house. Geez, most people would have just said thanks. Sam suggests it might have triggered a response.  Alexis says she doesn’t need anyone to do that, and says she had a weird feeling about the hang-up call. Sam asks for her phone, telling Alexis that she has an app for that. She messes around with the phones, and a map indicates that the call came from a payphone at the gas station near the footbridge. Alexis says that’s where Julian died.

Alexis thinks that Ava might be right, and that Julian is alive. Sam says not necessarily. Alexis says she know she shouldn’t feel this way, but she wishes he was alive. Scout starts to cry, and Alexis wants to jet, but Sam is worried. Alexis says she’s not delusional, just tired, and wants to go back to bed.

Franco starts to leave, and Elizabeth follows him. She says it’s not the best timing, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life with him. She didn’t say yes, but didn’t say no either. He thanks her, and they kiss good-by. Elizabeth tells Jason that Franco agreed to step back. Jason thinks he found a lead about the scarecrow. Elizabeth says she has lead of her own, and thinks she knows who can help.

Laura runs into Lulu leaving Kelly’s. Lulu she invites Laura for dinner tomorrow, but Laura says she’s galivanting around the globe with Tracy. Hey, that reminds me. Whatever happened to that show, Galavant?

Sonny tells Michael that distractions don’t work. Michael says don’t worry, but Sonny says Michael is his son. Even if he doesn’t need protection, that doesn’t stop Sonny from wanting to protect him.

Nelle tells Valentin about buying the scones, and says that she ran into Lulu. He asks who approached who, and she says she was leaving Kelly’s, and literally almost ran into her. He asks if she introduced herself, and Nelle thought she was just being polite. Valentin asks her to tell him everything that Lulu said. Ooh, Nelle could be a counter-spy.

Sonny says he shouldn’t be lecturing anybody (truth!), and starts to leave. Michael says if he didn’t make it clear, he loves Sonny, and doesn’t blame him for what happened. He only blames Olivia-J. He says Nelle is screwed up; that doesn’t absolve her, but puts it in context. Sonny says Michael is wiser than he was at Michael’s age, and maybe wiser than he is now. Sonny leaves, and the cheese Michael stands alone.

Lulu thinks Laura and Tracy’s trip is crazy, but it makes sense, and the two of them will keep each other out of trouble. Laura feels badly about leaving right now, but Lulu says it’s okay. She tells Laura about talking to Nelle, and that she’d asked about Michael. She hasn’t learned anything useful, but laid the groundwork. Laura tells her to take it easy; it’s just the first step. Valentin is smart, and they have to be smarter.

Nelle thinks that Lulu just wanted to be familiar with her, and make sure she’s all right to be watching Charlotte. Valentin says thanks for telling him. He tells Nelle that he tried offering joint custody to Lulu, but she didn’t want it, and is suing him for full custody. He says that she isn’t to be trusted. He gives Nelle a new set of keys, saying he’d had the locks changed, since you can’t be too careful. She puts the key on the keyring that Michael gave her.

Michael flashes back to giving the keyring to Nelle. What a coincidence!

Franco gets a text from Jake, who can’t wait to do more drawing with him.

Doc tells Jason and Elizabeth that he has to refer them to someone else, because of the personal history. They need fresh eyes and objectivity. He recommends Andre, and offers to make the appointment. Jason says at least it’s some progress, and Elizabeth is glad he was able to put aside their differences. They agree that Jake comes first.

Sam calls the gas station and asks if they have surveillance cameras.

Alexis gets on the couch with the AA big book. She looks at her phone on the table. She hears something and says it’s just the wind, but it doesn’t really sound like the wind.

On Monday, Josslyn asks Carly when she and Sonny are divorcing, Ned says he’s stopping Larry’s plans, and Jax arrives.

Flowers in My Attic

Let’s talk about V.C. Andrews. I don’t know how it happened, but I ended up spending a Saturday watching Lifetime’s version of Flowers in the Attic, and then every single subsequent film in the series. I’m not sure what came over me, but I fell under the Dollanganger family’s spell.

The books of V.C. Andrews were required reading for the young adults of my generation. I’m not sure why. They’re poorly written, and the stories revolve around – let’s just say it – incest. But for some reason, Andrews spoke to us. Apparently, even after death, as she died in 1986, yet her books continue to be churned out written. Highly doubtful that it’s difficult, but amazing that no one seems to care.

The cinema adaptation of Flowers in the Attic wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t entirely faithful to the book either, and I don’t think fans were entirely satisfied. Then, decades later, Lifetime made another stab at it. While their film was roundly criticized by reviewers, they did something right, because the franchise continued on, including My Sweet Audrina.

For those who live on another planet and aren’t familiar with the series, it revolves around siblings Cathy, Chris, Carrie, and Cory, forced to live in the attic of a Victorian mansion for years, so that their mother could get back into her own father’s good graces and inherit a bundle. She’d been shunned by the family for falling in love with her father’s half-brother, starting the chain of the wrong kind of familial love. When he suddenly dies in an accident, she’s forced to go back to the family mansion. After being trapped together through puberty, Chris and Cathy also fall in love, continuing the pattern. They also find out their mother has been lying to them.

Although I usually find Lifetime movies a let-down – their ideas are always promising, but the endings often fall flat – they got this one right. Despite being panned by critics, it was as though these God-awful books came to life. They nearly followed them word for word. The dialogue is not how anyone in their right mind would talk, unless they stepped out of 1900, and Chris and Cathy have absolutely no knowledge of how life works, even though they’ve gone to normal school up until they’re thirty teenagers. (Wouldn’t they even have thought they’re weird?) Ellen Burnstyn must have had a blast playing the grandmother, which she does with gusto, and Heather Graham is spot on as Corrine. Unfortunately, we lost Sally Draper Kiernan Shipka by the second film, but Rachael Carpani makes a lovely Cathy. I honestly think the reviewers thought the actors wrote this themselves; they did the best they could with the bizarre material. I mean, come on, the evil guy’s name is even Bart.

As with most binge watching, a sadness came over me as the final credits rolled. So bad, they’re good, it was a fun trip down Memory Lane. If you’ve never taken a dip into the strange pond of Andrews’s work, check them out next time around. Fans of the book series will not be disappointed.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Ava says that Tracy has never shown her any kindness. Now she needs Ava’s expertise, and Ava has debts. Tracy starts to leave, saying how many auction houses could there be? Hundreds just in Istanbul, according to Ava. Tracy says she made her point, and Ava asks if she wants help or not.

Olivia-F meets Ned and manages to be on time. Ned tells her about Larry’s proposal, and says he’s concerned about Tracy getting involved.

Tracy gives Ava a check and says she’ll get the rest when she finds the painting. Ava asks questions about the piece.

Jordan says Curtis’s work helped bring Olivia-J to justice. She spoke to the brass in Baltimore, and they’re willing to reinstate his credentials, which means she can hire him. He says he won’t be taking the job.

Amy Part 2 says this email will change her life. No more standing on the sidelines; she gets to shine.

Griff tells Nina that it’s the other way around; Valentin is bothering Anna. Nina asks for an example, but he can’t come up with anything. She tells Griff about Anna breaking in, and how Valentin didn’t press charges. She says she wants peace for her family. He says he can’t control Anna’s actions, and Nina says that Anna can’t control herself, and might need an intervention.

Anna remembers nothing. Valentin says how pathetically he wanted to believe her, especially after her rejection. She says if it’s true, she’d admit it. The only thing she remembers is him trying to kiss her on her birthday. He congratulates her on the ability to forget the worst about herself. He remembers everything, and it’s very unflattering to both of them.

Anna keeps saying she doesn’t remember. After he tried to kiss her, they went their separate ways. Valentin says that he doesn’t know if the DVX pushed her toward him or it was her idea. His security clearance was higher than hers, and he was contacted by the DVX through her.

Griff tells Nina that if she’s so concerned, maybe there’s something Valentin isn’t telling her. Nina tells Griff that he’s supposed to be a priest and non-judgmental, yet he broke his vows by having an affair with a married woman. He says he doesn’t want to see her hurt, and asks how Anna can come between them, or has she already? Nina tells him have good night, addressing him as father.

Nathan tells Dante that he tried to broker a peace between Nina and Maxie, but it didn’t work. Maxie tried finding work in the city, but that didn’t happen either.

Jordan asks why Curtis is turning her down when he hounded her so much about it? She thinks it’s because she’s been so awful. He says awful is an understatement, and she apologizes. She says she’s been reflecting, and lashing out at him was really about her own guilt. Seeing him reminded her about cheating on his brother and lying about TJ’s paternity. He asks if she hasn’t forgiven herself, and she says she thinks she has, but she’d like him to forgive her too.

Ava tells Tracy that there are a lot of legal constraints in Turkey. Tracy tells her about a painting by the artist recently being appraised at $20 million. Ava messes around on her phone and finds the auction house that dealt with the painting. Tracy tells her to write it down, and she’ll write the check. If Ava is wrong or conning her though, she’s stopping payment.

Ned tells Olivia-F on second thought, let Tracy do what she wants. Tonight is about them. Not wasting any time, he asks her to marry him again.

Curtis tells Jordan that there was a time he blamed her for anything wrong with his brother, but she’s a changed woman. He lists her good qualities, but adds that she’s a little confused about what she wants in a man.

Tracy sits at one of the tables She tries to call the auction house, but can’t find someone who speaks English. Laura joins her because Doc blew off their date. Tracy tells Laura that you would think they’d have people who speak English in Istanbul, and where is she going to find someone who speaks Turkish? Oddly enough, Laura does. Of course. Why am I not surprised?

Ava tells Lucy that she has two checks. As soon as she deposits them, Lucy gets her bribe. Lucy corrects her, saying she only asked for a donation. She looks at the checks, and says they wouldn’t cover her wardrobe. She’s keeping Morgan’s meds.

Olivia-F says how much she loves Ned and blah-blah-blah. She wants to spend her life with him, and there’s no other man for her. He tells her to say yes then. She says she wants what they have right now to continue, and why do they need a document? She asks why marriage is so important.

Nathan tells Dante that Maxie is filling in for an assistant editor while she’s away for three months. Dante wonders why Nathan didn’t join her.

Valentin tells Anna that she’d told him she missed him. He betrayed his instincts and believed her. She told him that she was on special assignment, and needed intel. She thought her life was in danger, and it wasn’t until he was being questioned that he realized she’d made him a traitor. Anna says she’d never do that. She did sell out and risked her own life, but she wouldn’t do it to someone else. Valentin tells her that he’d joined the WSB to make something of himself and do something good, and she took it from him. He starts to cry, and she says how sorry she is. He says she broke his heart and broke him. She looked right into his eyes and told him that he was beautiful. No one had ever been so kind. Anna touches his cheek. Nina walks in and asks what Anna is doing to her husband.

Nina asks what Anna is doing there. Anna says she had to find something out, and Nina says she doesn’t want to see her there again. Anna says she won’t, and leaves. Valentin tells Nina that Anna uncovered some ancient history. Something that happened at the WSB, something sordid that doesn’t reflect well on either of them. Nina says whenever she sees them together, he says it won’t happen again. She tells him that she can’t have another man lie and cheat on her again. Valentin says he’ll tell her about it, but she won’t like it any more than Anna did.

Ned tells Olivia-F that marriage says to the world that they have a bond deeper than just living together or saying “I love you.” It means stability, and partnership for the rest of their lives; romance that will last until their dying breath. Olivia says he’s wanted that before, but it didn’t last. She wonders how he can have faith in it. He says that he knows where he made mistakes, and why they didn’t last. He tells Olivia that they can have a great life together. Olivia says she wants the life, but some document hanging over her head. She asks why what they have isn’t enough.

Jordan asks Curtis what he thinks she wants in a man. He tells her that she thought she wanted Andre, while he was a reminder of the mistakes she made. She says she’s not punishing him for either of their past mistakes. She tells him that he’d be a great asset to the force. He appreciates her renewed faith in him, but he went by Jason’s place, and when he told Jason that he might be joining the force, Jason reminded him of how well they worked together. He likes working without the restraint of rules and wants to continue being a P.I.

Laura explains to Tracy that she and Luke once lived all over the world, and one of those places they lived was Turkey. She asks if Tracy wants her to make the call. Tracy asks if Laura wants to shake her down like Ava and Larry, who think she’s a personal ATM, and tells Laura about Larry’s proposition. She says her father wouldn’t approve giving a finder’s fee to a ne’er-do-well loser, so she’s doing it herself.

Ava tells Lucy that’s not her final offer. She shows Lucy a small sculpture, and explains that it’s extremely valuable. Lucy says antiquities are dicey and a gamble. Ava says money and the sculpture for Morgan’s pills.

Jordan tells Curtis to watch his step. He says if by some miracle they come together, at least they won’t get nailed for fraternizing.

When Laura gets off the phone, she tells Tracy about the painting the auction house pulled. Tracy says that’s it, and Larry wasn’t lying for once in his life. Laura tells her about the painting, and that the seller was to receive $20 million for it, but it was returned to the seller because they weren’t the last listed owner. Which makes perfect sense – not. I would think the auction house might have called the authorities, as the painting could have been stolen. Tracy says has to get the painting.

Olivia-F says it ain’t broke, why fix it? Ned asks her to believe marriage can make it even better, but she has to believe in herself and love. Olivia says she believes in love, but not marriage. He says sorry, but being together like this isn’t enough for him.

Nathan tells Dante that he can fly out on weekends to see Maxie. Dante thinks that’s a bit much. Nathan says it’s either that or missing her for three months. Dante asks if they talked about how it will affect their relationship. Nathan says it didn’t seem fair to put more pressure on her, since Nina fired her. These scenes are absolutely unnecessary filler material, telling us nothing except that Maxie went to Oregon. Even Nathan and Dante look like they wanted to be somewhere else.

Valentin tells Nina about how Anna claimed she wanted to be with him, seduced him, got what she wanted, and turned it over to the DVX. Nina asks why she’s saying that he’s the criminal, and he says getting the information made him a traitor. Nina says he’s not a traitor, and please don’t say he protected Anna. Valentin says he ran, changing his identity every now and then. It was his own fault for letting her manipulate him. Nina says it’s not his fault. He was alone and needed someone, and Anna took advantage of it. Valentin says that Anna doesn’t remember, and he doesn’t think that she’s lying.

Anna comes to the hospital, but the doctor she wants to see isn’t there. She runs into Griff. She says that Valentin told her about something that happened between them years ago. She tells him that the memory was obviously vivid to him. She’d hurt him unforgivably, but she remembers nothing. Griff asks if Valentin could be lying.

Jordan says would take an act of God to bring her and Curtis together. It would have to start raining butterflies. They flirt. They move in for a kiss.

Laura tells Tracy that the painting is in a monastery. Tracy thinks that she should see them in person, but Laura says that the area is impoverished and rural. She’ll need a guide and a translator, and how will she know guide is trustworthy? She would also need to speak the language just to get around. Tracy says that Laura is coming with her.

Nathan tells Dante that maybe it won’t be so bad. He’ll work hard, see Maxie on weekends, and it will be over before he knows it. Dante says it’s a plan, but Nathan says Maxie never goes according to plan. Zzzzz… Unless Perks (where they are) blows up, these scenes were worthless.

Nina wonders if Anna is manipulating Valentin again. He says so much of his life was wasted thinking about her until he met Nina. She and Charlotte are his life now, and he wants nothing to put that in jeopardy. He’s through with Anna’s games. Nina says if he wants to look into it further, they can do it together. She wants to know his secrets. She’ll never use them against him, and keep them safe. She’ll never betray him. They kiss.

Griff wonders if Valentin is either lying or delusional. Anna says that he lived it, and it devastated him. Griff asks if he could have her confused with someone else. She says omg, she thinks she knows what might have happened. She needs to make a trip.

Lucy looks up the sculpture and says it’s extremely valuable. Ava says that’s what she’s been telling her, and just take the deal. Lucy waves the pills around, and sets them on the bar. Unobtrusive she’s not.

Ned tells Olivia-F that there’s no point in continuing if he’s not the right person for her. They don’t look at the relationship the same way, and she’s not invested. She asks if he’s breaking up with her.

Some armed, masked men come in and tell everyone not to move. We focus on the ring Ned was about to give to Olivia-F, and then the sculpture and bottle of pills on the bar.

Tomorrow, one of the gunmen threatens to kill Ava, Franco brings Nina a gift, and Jason talks to Sam about Jake.

I hate to admit it, but I’m not a huge Oprah fan. I liked her early on, but thought she became a bit full of herself. I also think she’s one of those whichever way the wind is blowing people, who will drop their own beliefs in a heartbeat if they think it will hurt their popularity. That being said, she does come out with some gems.

My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.

Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.

Every stumble is not a fall, and every fall does not mean failure.

Turn your wounds into wisdom.

Whatever has happened to you in your past has no power over this present moment, because life is now.

My idea of heaven is a great big baked potato and someone to share it with.

I have no clue why that last part ended up with a box around it. One of life’s great mysteries…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Franco asks Elizabeth if she’s sure she wants him to move in. He says it won’t be her place anymore; it will be theirs. She thinks the boys will be thrilled, and he jokes that she wants a resident babysitter and art therapist. Elizabeth thinks it’s huge that Franco found the gap in Jake’s memory, and says she knows he’ll find more. In the meantime, Jake is happy and well-adjusted. She suddenly sees a picture has been drawn where the paper was blank.

Finn calls for Hayden. She says she was just resting her eyes. Ha-ha! My father used to say that when he didn’t want to admit he was asleep. Finn says he made it through withdrawal, and Hayden wonders when all this happened. He says when she was asleep and she’s like, yeah, right. He says she can let him go now. I think not.

Molly and Kristina visit Alexis. Molly says they’re worried about her. Alexis asks how Kristina is handling things with Morgan. Kristina says she hates Olivia-J, and Alexis points out that so does the rest of the world. They talk about Scout. Molly sees Julian’s letter and asks what the what?

Carly runs into Sonny at Perks. He was hoping to see Kristina, but she’s not on the schedule.

Finn tells Hayden that he could use a shower and some fresh air. If Hayden cuts him loose, they can go for a walk. She says it must be terrible to be taped to a chair like a hostage. He says there are scissors on the table, and she says she knows where they are, but he told her to keep him there until she’s sure the cravings are gone. She asks how long he’s been feeling better. He tells her it’s been a while, and she says that she wasn’t asleep two hours. Finn says who cares how long; it’s time to cut him loose. Hayden thinks they should wait, and he says he needs sleep in a real bed. He starts getting loud, and says that he doesn’t want to do this anymore. I have to mention this again. For someone who’s wet with sweat everywhere else, and supposedly going through withdrawal from a highly potent drug, his hair looks amazing.

Jason talks to Scout by the window, telling her what a great view they have, and how you can see the stars at night. He says when she’s older he’ll explain how starlight helped him find her mother. Sam is about to take over when there’s a knock at the door. It’s Curtis with a baby gift. He fawns over the baby and Sam lets him hold her.

Sonny asks Carly to stay and talk. She says they talked yesterday and didn’t get anywhere. He says under the anger he saw that they still love each other and there’s hope. He believes deep down she wants things to be better in the future, and he wants the same.

Elizabeth tells Franco that the paper was blank, and now it’s not. There’s a picture of a scarecrow. She says at least Jake is starting to remember, and Franco thinks it might be a breakthrough. Jake comes downstairs, and says he thinks he can go to school today. Elizabeth feels his forehead, and concurs. Franco tells him that he did a great job on the drawing, but Jake says he didn’t do it. Elizabeth tells him to go get dressed. When he’s gone, she says that she doesn’t think the other kids did this, and Franco says that Jake definitely drew it. She asks if Franco thinks he’s lying. Franco says he might have done it in his sleep, but it’s a repressed memory for sure.

Curtis tells Jason that he has a meeting with Jordan, and might get on the PCPD. Jason says if he carries a badge they can’t work together, but the bright side is, no more dumpster diving. Curtis says in a way, he’ll miss it; not the dumpsters, but working with Jason. He says they started off shaky, but they made a good team. He tells Jason to take care. Jason says if he gets in trouble, he can always call.  Curtis leaves, and Sam, who had gone to clean up Scout, asks if everything is okay. Jason says it’s strange, but he’s going to miss Curtis.

Kristina says she doesn’t believe a word of Julian’s letter. She says Julian pretends he was trying to protect Alexis, but Olivia-J was in town for a while and he could have warned her. Even if he knew he was being watched, he could have figured about a way. She says he’s a murderer and a liar, and the letter proves that they’re better off without him. Alexis says she just wants to know if it’s true, and asks Molly what she thinks. Molly says when he wrote it, it was meant to be read after he died, so it’s possible he’s being truthful. Kristina says that Alexis wants to believe a different concept. Alexis says if he’s dead, she’ll have regret that he died before she told him that she still loved him. We all heave huge sighs and throw our collective hands in the air.

Finn freaks out, and Hayden tells him to calm down. She says she’s not letting him go until he can act like a normal person. She sends a text and he gets paranoid. He says she doesn’t love him; she just wants to use him and throw him away, but he won’t let her.

Sonny tells Carly that they have to try. Carly says of course she thinks they should move past this. She knows nothing happens in a vacuum, and they’ve both made mistakes. He lied, and she knows he had his reasons, but she needs more time. He asks how much, and she asks how much time before he’s honest. She says if other circumstances hadn’t exposed Nelle, he would never have told her the truth, and he says he’s had enough.

Jason asks if Sam is okay with Olivia-J going to Darkham. Sam tells him that Olivia isn’t getting out any time soon, and now that Julian is dead, her mother will have time to heal. Jason asks how she’s feeling about Julian’s death, and she says she won’t miss any of it. She’s happy that Scout has a father who will protect and cherish her

Kristina says Julian was a narcissist, so he never doubted that Alexis loved him, but after everything he’s done, how can she? Alexis says she saw another side of him. Molly asks if she’s sure everything adds up, and she isn’t idealizing him. Alexis says she knows they’re thinking she wants revisionist history, but she just wanted to know if he loved her. Kristina says she’s justifying things, like Kristina did with Parker. Alexis says it doesn’t matter anyway, and Molly tells her again that they’re worried about her

Finn says he knows that Hayden was texting the pharmaceutical guy, and she can’t steal the money meant for the hospital. He says she’s a liar and a thief, and why didn’t he see it? She tells him to stop, but he keeps going on. Then says he’s sorry. He doesn’t even know what he’s saying. He tells her it’s the drugs talking, and asks her to forgive him. He seems to pass out for second, and when Hayden comes to his chair, he grabs her arm, startling the both of us.

Hayden tells him to let her go, and Curtis busts in. Curtis says he didn’t know what to expect, but it wasn’t this. The phone rings, and Curtis says that will be security. Hayden tells then that it was just a mishap, and everything’s fine. Curtis guesses this is DIY detox. Hayden makes him swear to secrecy. She says she’s helping Finn detox from a powerful drug, and he asks if she’s lost her mind.

Sonny wonders if Carly should ask his forgiveness for leaving when Morgan died. She says that she thought he was responsible, and toally misses the point. Sonny asks if she can imagine the burden. He brings up Jax, and she says that Sonny had Nelle in their bed. He says the bed she wasn’t in. He thought she’d left him and…

Thanks, ABC! You broke in with news that could have waited twenty minutes. We are not at war. It’s not even snowing. I suppose I should be grateful they came back to GH at all, and didn’t take up more time, showing us the line for the White House tour bathroom break, but when they returned, it was to a commercial.

Sam tells Jason that Alexis is trying to rationalize what Julian has done. Sam had told her she was lying to herself, and Julian would never be the man she wanted him to be. She thinks Alexis is afraid to confide in her now. Jason says to try telling her the truth about how she really feels. Sam says that Julian had potential to be a good man, but none of it matters anymore. She’s glad he can’t disappoint her again. Jason tells her to focus on how lucky they are, and then maybe on getting some sleep. He’s taking Danny to play at the Quartermaine’s, so she can have some peace and quiet.

Franco and Elizabeth recall the Jake in the story coming to a clearing and seeing a scarecrow. Franco thinks it was innocuous, and Elizabeth says that even though Jake hasn’t seen the book, maybe Helena planted the story in his subconscious. They decide to read the book again.

Sonny tells Carly if after all this time, she can’t understand that something like that could happen at the lowest point of his life, he doesn’t know what to say. Carly says he should have known better than to lie to her afterward. They were working their way back to each other, and she’d never felt closer to him. She asks if he thinks all this pain is her fault, and he says she made a choice to push him away. If there’s nothing he can do, she can stop running, because he’s not running after her anymore.

Hayden explains to Curtis why Finn didn’t go to rehab. He still thinks she’s crazy doing this alone. She says she can’t involve anyone from the hospital. Curtis gets that she loves him, but if he does detox, it doesn’t mean they’re home free. It’s not the end of his battle with addiction; it’s only the beginning.

Carly asks if Sonny is done. He says she should be relieved. When he tries to make amends, it only pisses her off. She asks if their marriage is over.

Elizabeth and Franco get out the book and the doorbell rings. Franco says would be creepy if it was Helena. Yes, it would. It’s not though. It’s Jason with a baseball glove for Jake. Elizabeth says they want to show him something. Jason asks what the book is doing out, and she says that’s what she wants to talk about. Jason asks what’s going on.

Molly and Kristina visit Sam, and gush over Scout. They ask if she read the letter, and she says no. Molly says she should, and Kristina says it’s the usual crap. Sam wonders why Alexis isn’t with them, and Molly says she’s at an AA meeting. The girls are glad that Alexis is taking care of herself, and Scout acts cute.

Alexis comes home. I question her décor, or lack thereof. Her place is awfully bare. She pulls a bottle out of her bag. Rolo’s wine. I’m sure it’s very pricey.

On Monday. Sonny talks to Laura, Jason wants Jake out of Elizabeth’s house, and Lucy is back.

🏋 That last one led me to remember my favorite strength training instructor, Margaret Richard, who’s had a PBS show called Body Electric for many years. I have some old tapes where two gems from her were: The stationery leg is stationery, and, If you’re working in front of a mirror, the mirror will be in front of you. These quotes by no means diminish Ms. Richards talent as an instructor, but are merely the kind of thing we’d all come up with, trying to chat while doing a painful challenging exercise routine. Taking it a step further, I checked out what Margaret is doing these days, and it turns out she has a kickstarter page to fund her latest project. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jordan tells Olivia-J it couldn’t happen to a nicer person. She explains about Darkham being a super tight facility, and since she can’t be cured, she won’t be getting out. Jordan says they have all the witnesses they need, including Winston, who has all kinds of incriminating stories.

Hayden comes into Finn’s room holding Roxie. She sees Finn shivering on the couch.

Tracy goes out to dinner and harasses the waiter. When he asks if anyone will be joining her, she suggests he put up a neon sign that says “Alone.” Someone asks if the other seat is taken. I guess they didn’t hear her outburst.

Elizabeth comes home, and Franco says the kids are upstairs. He tells her that paradise awaits.

Jason and Sam marvel at Scout. Sam says it’s the first time she’s actually brought a baby home from the hospital. They get mushy over the baby, and the doorbell rings. It’s Sonny.

Ned joins Tracy, asking if she wants to talk about it. She’d rather talk about him, and asks if he’s meeting his fiancé. He says she’s not his fiancé. Tracy asks if he had a change of heart, but he says that Olivia-F turned him down.

Hayden tells Finn that she found Roxie outside. He says she wants her way all the time, and he told her that if she didn’’t like it, she should go. He didn’t think she’d take him up on it.

Elizabeth unwinds, soaking her feet, and says it’s exactly what she needed. Franco tells her that she has pretty feet. She has a sip of wine, and says she’s sufficiently relaxed. She asks about Jake, and Franco tells her that the art therapy went well, but it’s going to take time.

Jordan says whatever Olivia-J paid Winston, it didn’t buy his loyalty. She was gone for a lot of years, and someone helped her get to China. Whoever it was, left a trail, and she’ll find out. Olivia laughs at her. Jordan walks out, and Curtis says it looks like someone pissed her off. He’s glad it’s not him this time.

Sonny brings a stuffed bear for the baby. He asks if they heard about Olivia-J. She’s been declared unfit to stand trial, and they’re sending her to Darkham. Sam says she thought he wanted her to pay, and he says she will, trust him. He tells them to enjoy their baby. There’s no more trouble; Olivia is done. Scout wakes up, and Sam gives her to Sonny, who threatens not to give her back. Maurice Benard is always super cute with babies. Factoid: He has a few kids of his own, and also adopted his wife’s little sister. Sonny tells Scout that if she ever gets in trouble, to call Uncle Sonny. Let’s hope she doesn’t need to.

Sam takes Scout off for a diaper change. Sonny asks if Jason remembers when Michael was small, and says there’s nothing better. Jason says he talked to Carly, and Sonny says she told him. She’s happy that they found out who killed Morgan, but pissed that he slept with Nelle. Sam comes back, and Sonny says he has to go. I tell Scout to stop looking at the camera or she’ll be an eight-year-old by next week. Sam asks Jason what that was about.

Jordan asks if Curtis is there for update. She tells him that Olivia-J is going to Darkham, an will be in that hellhole until the end of time. Curtis says he feels badly that no one will get their day in court. Jordan asks him to stick around.

Franco shows Jake’s drawings to Elizabeth, explaining that the theme is favorite things from when they were little. She asks why there’s a blank space.

Hayden runs the shower and starts to undress Finn. He asks why she’s doing this, and she says she cares about him and he took care of her. She puts him in the shower with his clothes on and gets in with him. I notice how great his hair looks and then think, shouldn’t he look sweaty or something?

Tracy is aghast that the fishwife of Bensonhurst turned Ned down, and asks how dare she? Ned is surprised at her reaction, since Tracy didn’t want them to get married. Tracy says that’s because Olivia-F isn’t good enough for him, not the other way around. She asks what problem Olivia could have with the family, since it’s an honor and a privilege to join their ranks. Larry Ashton appears, and says he couldn’t agree more. A new actor is playing Larry, but I can just tell who he is.

Different Larry sits down, and Tracy asks what he’s doing in Port Charles. He asks if Tracy told Ned about his letter. She says she didn’t want to entertain his drivel, and he was looking for cash. He says just the opposite; an unexpected windfall landed in his lap. She asks what that has to do with her, and he says everything.

Finn thanks Hayden. She says he thought since he’s a doctor, he could cure himself, but he’s human like the rest of them. She tells him that she has connections, and asks if he wants to get into a rehab. He says he’s not going to rehab.

Elizabeth says that all the years Jake spent with Helena are blank. Franco says he shut down and stopped drawing. Elizabeth thinks that’s bad, but Franco says not necessarily. He says if there’s something wrong, they’ll deal with it. Everything is going to be okay. She says she believes it, and doesn’t know what they’d do without him. She asks him to stay.

Sam wonders what’s up with Sonny; something seemed off. Jason says he and Carly are going through something. Sonny slept with Nelle, and Carly is having a hard time. Sam asks when it happened, and Jason says after Morgan died. She says the timing is terrible; they should be leaning on each other, instead of being miles apart. Sam redirects Jason’s attention to the baby. They talk about how lucky they are.

Jordan thanks Curtis for everything he did. She says she was wrong about Sonny, and if it hadn’t been for him and Jason, they would have gotten the wrong person. He adds that the hospital might have blown up too, and she tells him that modesty will never be a problem for him. She says since he’s been back, he’s only wanted one thing. Sonny interrupts. Jordan tells him Olivia-J is being picked up soon. He tells Jordan that he wants to say good-by. He asks what’s the worst he could do; he just wants to say his piece. Jordan tells Curtis she wants coffee far away from the interrogation room.

Sonny goes in. Olivia-J says, we meet again. She asks if he’s there to make more threats. He says he’s done with that. He’s making her a promise.

Jordan says she knows Curtis was interested in joining the force. He says that he’d thought it was off the table. Jordan tells him that she’s willing to put it back on.

Sonny tells Olivia-J that he kept Carly from shooting her because Carly would have gone to jail. Plain and simple, she killed the wrong boy, and he’s not a helpless parent bound to the legal system. She murdered his son, and he has the power to make her pay.

Jason and Sam say they’ve got the parenting thing. Danny comes downstairs.

Elizabeth tells Franco that it’s late. Why trek all the way home? Franco says the footbath has his name on it, and takes off his shoes.

Finn tells Hayden that he doesn’t play well with others, and won’t make the best patient. She says he’ll probably be too sick to care. He says he just signed a contract with a pharmaceutical company, and what if word gets out? She tells him that it can be kept quiet, and he needs to worry about himself. He says he’s going to get clean on his own and needs her help.

NuLarry tells Tracy that she stands to gain a large sum. She says she doesn’t need money or him, and tells him to get lost. She calls him a lying, scheming liar who lies, and he tells her to ring him when she’s ready to talk. She says when hell freezes over, pigs fly, and the Cubs win the world series. Ned reminds her that the Cubs did win, and she amends it to the first two. Larry says it’s not about what they want, but what her father would have wanted.

Sam shows Scout to Danny. Jason says her name is Emily Scout Morgan, and Sam tells him that they’re calling her Scout.

Elizabeth and Franco bask in the afterglow. She says there’s more where that came from. He says he’ll have to come back. She says tomorrow, and the next night, and the next. He says it sounds like he’s living there, and asks if that’s what she’s asking. She asks if his answer would be yes.

Hayden thinks Finn should go to a rehab. He says he has everything he needs from the hospital, and can do it alone if he has to, but he doesn’t want to. She asks if those are the two options, and says that she’s in. He tells her that it’s going to get ugly, and she asks what he wants her to do. He says to tie him up.

Jordan asks if Curtis wants to rock the badge again, and tells him that she’s open for discussion. Maybe over dinner.

Olivia tells Sonny that she’s already paying. Mental instability is something they have in common. She asks if he hasn’t done something in the throes of a manic episode, and he tells her to stop talking. She knows that he wouldn’t do anything stupid, and wonders if he’s going to wait until she’s rehabbed and out. She asks if this is good-by until they meet again. He says there’s a disconnect. She’s not getting out, but she’s going to be dead. Scary Sonny.

Jason tells Scout not to let the peaceful thing fool her. Her mom is tough like her. He talks about watching her take her first breath. He tells her that her daddy will be there for her entire life, and he’s not a bad guy to have in her corner.

Franco says moving in is a big step. He’ll have to think about it. He thought about it, and okay, he’s in. Elizabeth says she’s excited and Jake will be too.

We see Jake’s drawing of the door.

Hayden says she’s not tying Finn to a chair. He says it’s going to get bad; he’s warning her. He won’t be the person she knows. He could hurt himself or her. The only way to guarantee their safety is to restrain him, and she’s the only one he trusts. She says okay; whatever it takes. He gives her the duct tape and says no time like the present.

Ned says that Larry knows Tracy, so of course he invoked Edward, her only weakness. He tells her not to fall for it, and she says she won’t.

Sonny tells Olivia-J to get comfy, settle in, make friends; it makes it so much better when it happens. He doesn’t want to ruin the surprise, but he’ll tell her the last sound she’s going to hear is his son’s name, and she’ll know the killer was sent by him. Extra scary Sonny.

Jordan asks Curtis to join her for dinner; it’s the least she can do to thank him. He says it had better be somewhere expensive. Officers come to get Olivia-J. They tell her they’re here to take her the facility, and she asks if Sonny sent them. They’re like, let’s go, and she gets all weird, and keeps asking if he sent them to kill her. As they lead her out, she calls for help, repeating that he’s going to kill her.

Tomorrow, Molly wants Alexis to listen, Finn begs to be let go, and Jason tells Curtis that they can’t work together.

🍰 Tonight, on MasterChef Junior, the kids used a blowtorch as a kitchen tool. This could have ended tragically, and would have had I been using it.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly tells Jason he’s going to be the most incredible dad to Emily, and fawns over the baby.

Olivia-J says long time no see. She says he hasn’t changed a bit, especially his hair. Scotty has come into the interrogations room. He says she hasn’t changed either; she’s still trying to kill her brother.

Alexis reads the letter. Julian says if she’s reading this, he’s probably dead, and he can finally tell her the truth about him, his sister Olivia-J, and her.

Ava congratulates Sonny, since Julian is presumed dead. She says If he had a grave, Sonny would be dancing on it, and Sonny says he wouldn’t just dance. Ha-ha! She wants him to say he was wrong, but he says that Julian, Olivia-J, and Ava tried to destroy his family, and he’s not going to forget that.

Julian’s letter says that a long time ago, he thought he’d killed his sister, but last spring she showed up, bent on revenge for her and Duke; a life for a life. He begged her to take his life, but she told him he killed the person she loved above all others, so she ordered him to kill Alexis.

Scotty says he gets upset that he even knew Olivia-J, since she’s a lunatic. Olivia says she’s just misunderstood. She says isn’t it horrible that she was shot, and he says that depends on who you ask. Scotty tells her that she’s going away for a long time, but she says not to underestimate her. No one thought they’d see her again, but here she is. And there you go, he tells her. Dante sees him coming out and says he’s not an authorized visitor, but Scotty says don’t worry, he’s been punished enough.

Felicia is at the cemetery to see Georgie, and sees Anna. She tells Anna that she always comes around Georgie’s birthday, and for a few minutes, she shares the peace and remembers. She asks what Anna’s doing there, and sees that Anna was at Morgan’s grave. Anna says he’s one of Olivia-J’s victims, along with her baby and Duke.

Jason tells Carly he couldn’t help think about Morgan when she was holding baby Emily. Carly misses him, but Jason says at least they got his killer. She says it does bring some closure, but standing there face to face with Olivia-J, she learned something about herself.

Ava can’t believe Sonny is still pinning Morgan’s death on her and Julian. He says Morgan’s blood is on Julian’s hands as much as Olivia’s. Ava says they originally thought Sonny planted the bomb, but he didn’t; neither did she or Julian. She’s a victim too. Sonny says she had a hand in Morgan’s death.

Dante tells Olivia-J no more visitors. She says she’s sorry for his loss, but wonders why he didn’t recuse himself. He says there’s no conflict of interest. She’s going to prison for the rest of her life, and there’s a place in hell with her name on it for what she did to his brother and family. She says she wanted to kill her brother, not his. He says Julian didn’t kill Morgan, she did, and she says Julian’s fault.

The letter continues, Julian says that if he didn’t kill Alexis, Olivia-J would, and she’d make Julian watch. He says if Olivia is still alive, to be careful. He explains that he’d had an escape plan, but Sonny interfered. Instead, Julian got arrested, and when he was exonerated, Olivia planted a bomb in his car, and Morgan died.

Anna tells Felicia that Carly lost a child to Olivia-J, and so did she, although her grief doesn’t compare Felicia’s or Carly’s. Felicia says it’s not a competition. Anna says her child didn’t make it into the world, but Felicia tells her that it’s not a smaller tragedy, just a different one. Anna says part of life is losing a loved one, but when she thinks about what Olivia has done, and how she nearly took Robin… Felicia stops her and says it’s finally over.

Jason tells Carly that he heard she found Olivia-J in the cemetery – and shot her. Carly says it was self-defense, but she would have killed Olivia if it hasn’t been for Sonny. She always thought she understood Sonny’s behavior, but for the first time she truly understood.

Sonny says when he threatened to kill Ava, she said she wished it hadn’t gotten that far. He says he thought she was talking about the bomb, but that was Olivia-J’s doing. What did she do to Morgan?

As Alexis reads, she imagines Julian at the table with her. He says that after Olivia-J’s attempt on his life failed, he thought she would try again, but then she needed his help. She wanted General Hospital, and he helped her, hoping to buy time. But after she became Alexis’s sponsor, he had one mission, to protect his family. He never stopped loving her. He knows how much damage he’s done and she’s better off without him. He wishes her all the peace and happiness this world can give her. He loves her more than anything, even more, now that he’s gone. He tells her good-by. Dammit, he almost has me crying and I don’t even like him.

Jason tells Carly that no matter how much you hate someone, if you kill them, you carry it for the rest of your life. Sonny stopped her because he loves her. Carly asks if he knows what happened with Nelle. When he tells her that he did, she asks when he knew, and he says before Christmas. She’s shocked that he didn’t tell her.

Ava tells Sonny that she doesn’t remember what she said; she was a little preoccupied. He says she was begging for her life. She tells him that what she does remember is that he should be in prison. Sonny says like she should be for killing Connie. Ava says they’ll talk about Avery later; she’s done here.

She’s not done looking fabulous though. Ava continues to win best dressed in my eyes. And her accessories are always perfection. On the porch, she calls someone and says she needs to see them right away.

Anna comes into the interrogation room. Olivia-J tells her that she’s not an approved visitor. Anna says she has all the approval she needs since she’s with the WSB.

Olivia-F joins Alexis. She asks if Alexis is okay. She heard about them calling off the search for Julian; Dante told her. Alexis says Olivia-J kidnapped her and lured him to the footbridge. She says that she was with Sam all morning, and they talk about how beautiful the baby is. Olivia asks why Alexis is there and not at the hospital, and if it has something to do with the letter she’s reading. Alexis says it’s from Julian, and Olivia says he’s the only one who can cause her pain even after death. Alexis says she might have been wrong about a lot of things, including him.

Anna wants to know what happened. Olivia-J says to tell her what she thinks she knows, and Olivia will tell her if she’s right. They’ll make a game of it. She tells Anna about how she didn’t recover for years after Julian shot her. She was taken from hospital to hospital, and surgery to surgery; she was all over the world. She says Anna hates her, and Anna says she does, for many reasons. Olivia tells Anna that she’s sorry for one thing; she never meant to hurt Anna’s baby. It was an accident. Anna says like Morgan. She tells Olivia that she was just at his grave, and Olivia says any blood she saw was hers from his crazy mother shooting her. Anna has two questions – why now, and how did she get well enough to come back? Olivia says there was a hospital in China and a doctor found a way to make her mind, body and spirit whole through reincarnation. He showed her what one needs to do to rise again, and she had to try to bring Duke back to life

Scotty waits in the cold. Ava arrives. He says she picks the swankiest places, and she tells him that she doesn’t want anyone to overhear. He says he just had a run in with her sister, and had the misfortune of knowing her back in the day. Ava says she’ll be glad to listen to his stories, but needs to talk to him about Sonny. She said something that could get her killed.

Carly asks why Jason didn’t tell her about Nelle, and he says that Sonny asked him not to. It wasn’t his place; it was Sonny’s. Carly says he was supposed to have her back. He tells her that he always will, whether she’s mad at him or not, but they’d lost their child, and he didn’t want to destroy the fragile peace they had.

Dante brings Sonny up to speed, and says Olivia-J said he should recuse himself. Sonny is like, maybe, but Dante says he does his job no matter what the circumstances. Sonny trusts what Dante told him. Dante isn’t convinced that Sonny is sincere. Sonny tells him that Olivia is going to die next week, or a year from now, and no way he’ll be connected to it. Dante says this is his chance. Olivia is in prison, Julian is dead, and Ava turned out to be just an art dealer. Maybe it’s a sign he should finally get out of the business.

Olivia-F reads the letter, and Alexis asks if she thinks anything is true. Olivia says their history is complicated. One of the best things in her life, Leo, is the result of one of her worst decisions. She doesn’t think Julian can be trusted, but when he was in prison, he said there was nothing she could do to stop him from seeing Leo, yet didn’t follow through. She says the letter is obviously sincere, but if she were Julian, that’s what she would say to get Alexis’s forgiveness. He acts like he had no options, but being resourceful and slippery, he could have warned her. But now he’s gone, so it’s up to her whether she wants to give him the benefit of the doubt. Olivia says she’s Italian, and can love you, but still hold a grudge forever. She says she would never forgive, but still hold a place in her heart just in case it was true. Alexis gets to decide how she wants to remember him, but Olivia knows one thing is true.

Scotty tells Ava stay away from Sonny. Ava says they share a daughter, so she can’t exactly do that. She says she said something she shouldn’t have at the gallery. Sonny had accused her of hurting Morgan, and she said she never meant for things to get that far. She’s concerned about Lucy going to him. Scotty says not going to happen; he switched the placebos back to the real thing. She says they might still figure it out, but if there’s no bottle, there’s no proof. Scotty thinks she’s mad at herself for switching the pills in the first place. Ava says she is, but she doesn’t want to go to jail and doesn’t want Kiki to find out. If Sonny finds out, he’ll kill her. She says one thing can be done, and he knows what it is.

Dante tells Sonny that the Jeromes are history. Sonny says there’s always someone to take his place, and Dante says let them. He asks if Sonny and Carly have split up again. Sonny doesn’t want to talk about it, and asks about the hearing. Dante says Diane’s bill was less than a carpet cleaning, and thanks Sonny. He tells Sonny that Lulu has six months to form a bond with Charlotte. Sonny tells him that if he needs help with Valentin, just ask.

Jason tells Carly that there was a time when she and Sonny were both spinning out of control. Sonny made a mistake. She says one he kept for months, but Jason says he was grieving and in pain just like her. Now they have a chance to heal and be there for each other.

Anna says that Olivia-J did try to bring Duke back to life using Griff as a conduit. Olivia says he fooled her, but given a few more minutes, they could have really brought Duke back. Anna asks if that was her goal, why the rest of the carnage? Olivia regrets that Morgan fell into Julian’s trap. Anna asks what about her, Robin, and the hospital? Olivia says Anna had a second chance and let Duke die. Anna says no, and Olivia says she doesn’t know what Duke saw in her; she’s a cold fish and didn’t deserve him. Anna asks again why she wreaked havoc, and Olivia says that there were things to be done in order to assure her success. Anna hopes one day she wakes up and sees what a mess she’s made of her life, and that she’s the instrument in her own downfall. Her life is effectively over. She starts to leave, and Olivia tells her that she missed a spot. She knows something Anna doesn’t know, a secret about her.

Dante tells Sonny to stay away from Valentin. He’s going to focus on his wife and family, and Sonny should focus on his.

Jason tells Emily that Carly will be an amazing aunt. Emily is perfect, and her entry to the world was rough, but her dad isn’t letting anything happen to the family. Nothing can get in the way of his love.

Olivia-F tells Alexis that Julian might have been the worst, but he did love her. He may have done her wrong, and maybe she can’t or shouldn’t forgive him, but for what it’s worth, he loved her very much.

Anna asks Olivia-J what the secret is, and Olivia tells Anna that she’s crazy, remember? Anna leaves, and Olivia smiles.

Scotty tells Ava absolutely not. Ava says she’s afraid they can trace Morgan’s downward spiral to her. He has to get the pills.

Sonny opens the door to Carly standing on the porch.

On Monday, Anna tells Andre to get out, Hayden gets some good news, and Bobbie confronts Nelle.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Hayden tells Curtis the hospital is on lockdown. He asks if she’s seen Jordan; he needs to find her. Hayden thinks she’s in there somewhere.

Griff tells Finn that he’s having a bad day. I’d say so. They’re going to Monica, and Finn is going to tell her that he needs time off for rehab. Griff says it’s his ethical responsibility. Finn tells him do what you have to. Elizabeth interrupts, and tells Griff that his patient in ICU needs him.

Curtis asks an officer about Jordan, but all he can say is that Dante initiated a search. Curtis tries calling her, and hears the phone ringing inside of an office. He busts the door in, and sees Jordan lying on the floor.

Jason tells Sam that she and Emily are better off at the hospital with Olivia-J out there.

At Ava’s apartment, Olivia-J says she was hoping that Ava went out for olives. She’s fascinated how DNA even trickles down to the love of martinis. Ava isn’t interested in chit-chat. Olivia draws a gun on Ava, saying she was hoping they could have some girl talk. She asks where Julian is.

Anna wants to get up, but Dante tells her to lie back down. She says that psychopath has Robin, and she has to find her.

Robin is all tied up right now though. And standing on the bomb in the elevator.

Griff asks Elizabeth if she’s talking about Marisol, and asks what’s going on. Elizabeth says she’s all alone and whatever this is, Marisol needs him more. Griff tells Finn this isn’t over, and leaves. Finn eyes the tray of medications and picks up a cup. Elizabeth asks him what he’s doing.

Curtis asks Jordan to wake up and she does, saying she’s fine. He says he knows she’s fine, but is she okay? BA-DUM-CHH! She says Winston must have gotten the jump on her while she was looking for Olivia-J. Curtis tells her that Olivia escaped. He helps her up, and says she needs to be looked at by a doctor. Julian happens to be walking past, and she tells him to hold it.

Ava tells Olivia-J that she doesn’t know where Julian is. She hasn’t seen him since February, but he visited her in jail for a crime that Olivia committed. Olivia says that Ava has killed people, but Ava says Morgan didn’t deserve to die. Olivia says neither did Duke. Ava asks what she wants, and Olivia says a special delivery.

Alexis comes to Sam’s room with a fruit basket. She apologizes, but Sam says it’s not her fault. She tells Sam how scared she was, but Sam says she has everything she ever wanted. Jason says he wants to make sure that doesn’t change, and goes off to do preventing-a-tragedy stuff.

Robin shouts, but her mouth is covered with duct tape, so that doesn’t work too well.

Anna has a headache. Dante comes into her room and asks if she’s really doing this. She says she is. He says there’s an APB out for Olivia-J and Robin. Anna says who knows where Olivia stashed Robin and what kind of condition she’s in. She says he has to look at the surveillance tapes. Dante says he’d love to find her, but Anna isn’t making it easy. She tells him to just go. Jason comes by, and asks if she’s okay. She tells him that Robin is in trouble.

Finn asks Elizabeth why the meds are unattended, and says that he was checking a patient’s dosage. She asks if he was having a taste test, and he tells her she’s out of line. She says he’s the one who’s out of line, and she knows the signs of a user. She tells him that she gets what was going on with Griff now, and can’t let him treat patients. Hayden appears, and asks what’s going on. Finn says it was a misunderstanding. Elizabeth says she caught Finn stealing meds, and tells Hayden he’s an addict; she knows because she’s been there. Hayden says she already knows.

Alexis still can’t believe that Olivia-J was her AA sponsor. She tells Sam that Julian knew about it, and that Olivia was behind Morgan’s death. She wonders how she could be so stupid. Sam says it’s Julian’s fault, not hers. Alexis tells Sam that he’s in the hospital. Olivia held him captive, and put him in the trunk of a car. Sam asks if she saw him, and tells her to admit that she’s worried about him.

Julian tells Jordan that he’s looking for Olivia-J. She says they have that handled, and asks if he knows where she could be. He says he’d tell her if he knew; he doesn’t want Olivia out there. He’s going to check on Sam.

Jason asks how long Robin has been missing, and if Anna thinks Olivia-J is bluffing. Anna says she’s sure Olivia is serious. Olivia said their history is going to come back to haunt her, but it could mean anything. Jason says to call him if she thinks of anything, but she wants to search the hospital. She doesn’t know why, but she believes Robin is there. She wants to go with Jason.

Olivia-J tells Ava to call Julian and tell him to come home. Ava asks what Olivia is planning. Olivia says he doesn’t care about anyone but himself, and that’s why he killed Duke. Now it’s come to this, because she failed. Ava says they all fail from time to time, but Olivia says it’s not an option for her, and lists her various failures. She realizes everything was a lie. She tells Duke she’s sorry, and tells Ava to go sit. Ava asks what she’s doing. Olivia says the next best thing. She wants Ava to call Julian, and tosses a phone to her. She tells Ava to improvise.

Jason thinks they should concentrate on anything overlooked. Anna looks at the out of service sign on the elevator, and says her past with Olivia is back to haunt her.

Elizabeth asks how long Hayden has known. Hayden says long enough to know Finn prefers drugs over her. Elizabeth talks about Lucky, and asks if Finn has told Hayden she’s not supportive enough. She tells Hayden not to let Finn take her down with him. Finn says that’s her life not theirs. Hayden thanks Elizabeth.

Julian comes to the front desk, and the nurse hands him the phone. It’s Ava for him. She says she needs for him to come home right now; she has a problem.

Alexis tells Sam that she was a little worried when Julian gave her the key to the safe deposit box. Sam says he chose to protect Olivia-J. Alexis says or protect them. She knows Olivia has leverage against him. He warned her to stay away from Olivia when he found out she was Alexis’s sponsor. The baby stirs, and Sam tells Alexis that her name is Emily Scout Morgan.

Curtis tells Jordan she’s going to push herself until she collapses. Dante arrives, and she asks for an Olivia-J update. He says it appears she’s kidnapped Robin.

Anna flashes back to when Olivia told her about rigging the elevator, and how the next best thing to getting rid of Anna, was Anna losing Duke’s baby.  She tells Jason that Robin is in the elevator.

Finn wants to talk to Hayden. He asks if she actually believes Elizabeth. He says that was her life and he’s not crashing or dragging her down. Hayden tells him get clean or she’s having him removed from the hospital.

Jason and Anna call to Robin. Jason pries the door open and she’s there standing on the bomb. Jason says it’s like a landmine; it’s pressure sensitive. Dante joins them, saying they need to call the bomb squad and evacuate. Anna tells Robin they’ll get her out. She wants to untie Robin, but Jason says she’ll kill Robin – and everyone who’s in the vicinity.

Alexis feeds Emily. She lists all the people who love her. Sam hears an alarm. Alexis says she’ll check it out, and hands Emily to Sam. Sam tells Emily not to worry.

The bomb has twenty-five minutes to go. Jason slowly walks into the elevator. He tells Robin it’s going to be okay, just give him a few minutes. He removes the tape from her mouth, and cuts the binds from her hands. Robin says she knew Anna would find her. Dante says the building is almost clear. Alexis shows up, and Jason tells her to get Sam and the baby out, and tell her he loves her. Dante leaves again. Robin tells Jason to go, but he says he’s not going anywhere.

Curtis says he’s coming with Jordan. She asks if he’s self-deputizing, and tells him okay, but this doesn’t set a precedent.

Robin wants Anna to go. She says the bomb squad will be there, but Jason doesn’t think they should wait. He wants to exchange places with Robin. Robin doesn’t think the bomb squad is going to get there in time, and he’s trying to get her out. Anna tells her think about the baby, and she tells Jason she’s pregnant. Anna says he has a wife and children, so let her do it. Robin says she knows Anna wants to help, but she’s not strong enough to do this right now. Anna agrees, but insists on waiting. Jason tells Robin to take his hands. He says she likes to dance, right? and gets behind her. They switch places. He says she’s free.

Jason tells them to go. Robin runs to Anna. Jason tells them not to worry about him and congratulates Robin. Anna tells Jordan what’s happening. Jordan tells everyone to clear out. Jason tells Robin he’ll be fine, and Anna says she owes him. Jordan tells Curtis to go too, but he wants to stick around.

Griff asks Elizabeth what’s going on. She asks if she can help with Marisol’s transport. She says there’s not much time.

Finn hears the alarm thinks it’s a drill, but then Jordan is heard on the loudspeaker saying it’s an emergency evacuation. Hayden says it’s not a drill. Finn says there’s no fire doors on that floor. Because of the medication kept there, everything automatically locks. They’re locked in.

Sam wonders where Jason is.

Jordan says the bomb squad is landing on the roof, and Jason says tell them hurry up.

Alexis tells Sam that Jason is probably helping with the evacuation. Sam doesn’t want to leave, but Alexis insists.

Julian goes to Ava’s place. He sees her tied up. He asks if it was Olivia-J, and if she’s there. Ava says yes, but she’s gone.

Griff tells Elizabeth to go. He says he understands what it means to be a parent, and he can’t leave his patient. His place is here, and he asks Elizabeth to tell Marisol’s parents that he’s with her. He tells her to have faith.

Over the loudspeaker, Jordan says that this is the final evacuation notice. Finn tells Hayden that it must be serious. Hayden asks him to promise he’ll get clean if they get out. He says if these are their final moments, the last thing he wants to talk about is rehab. He loves her.

Alexis tells Sam that Jason is probably in the crowd somewhere.

Julian releases Ava from her bonds. She says that Olivia-J is crazy. She forced Ava to call him, and took off. Ava has no idea what Olivia is doing.

Alexis texts Jason. A gloved hand clamps down over her mouth.

Anna tells Sam about Robin. She says Jason was instrumental in getting her out. She says he took her place, and explains about the bomb being pressure sensitive.

Jason sees the text that says Sam and the baby are safe. Even when standing on a bomb, he’s still busy with his phone.

Jordan wants Curtis to leave. Dante tells her that the bomb squad is on the roof. Jordan tells him that some of the patients can’t be moved. Jason wonders if it would be safer if they brought the bomb to the squad. He tells Curtis to release the emergency stop, and send the elevator to the roof. Curtis tells Jordan, sorry, and gets in with Jason. He says he’ll stay and enjoy the ride.

They look at each other as the elevator goes up.

On Monday, Julian asks Olivia-J what she’s done, Sonny talks to dead Morgan, and the bomb squad deals with the bomb.

🐬 Once in a while, I recommend a film, and I was impressed by The Shallows. My husband is always whining that there are no really scary movies anymore like when we were kids, and I have to remind him that’s because as adults, we know things like vampires aren’t real. Scary things for adults have to do with mortgage issues, taxes, and heathcare. Scary movies for adults involve real life situations. Home invasion movies can be scary, but too often they’re laughable, the antagonists bordering on comic, and the protagonists just plain stupid. (I felt the same way about the first Purge movie.) But it was thumbs up on the scary-meter for me with The Shallows, especially since I live near the ocean.

Not that you’d see waves or sharks like that at the beach near me, but like Jaws before it, this can make any body of water seem unsafe. Nancy (Blake Lively, who did an amazing job) is riding one last wave before she calls it a day on an off-the-beaten-path Mexican beach. She’s alone, but not really, because there’s this shark. From the first to the last time we see it, it’s scary. I actually made noises out loud. The film wasted no time in jumping into action, starting with riding some excellent waves. It was relentless, and kept the pace with few pauses. There’s nothing deep about it except the water, but it was exciting AF.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jason picks up little Scout while Sam sleeps. Sam wakes up and says this is better than any dream. Jason gives Scout to her. Honestly, I’m not one of those people who gushes over babies, but this one is very small and cute. (Tiny trivia: For the first four episodes, Scout was played by triplets, and she’s now being played by twins, Lori and Sevan Andonian.)

Nelle says her final paycheck isn’t going to last long. On the phone, she tries to get in a substitute teaching pool, but is told she needs a degree. There’s a knock at her door. It’s Josslyn. They’d made plans to go to a Shawn Mendes concert, but Nelle forgot. Either Shawn Mendes is the only recording artist who will play in the vicinity of Port Charles, or he has stock in this show. Josslyn tells Nelle to go change, and notices the packed boxes. Nelle asks if Carly knows she’s there, but Josslyn is clueless.

Michael makes ELQ decisions. Carly comes into the office and says they need to talk. He says if it’s about Nelle, Sonny was already there, and told him not to forgive her.

Kiki knocks on Ava’s door. As usual, I’m enthralled with Ava’s outfit. She has on a bright blue blouse (say that three times real fast) with bell sleeves that I’m totally coveting. Kiki says that she heard the charges have been dropped. Ava aks if she’s there to celebrate or give her a hard time, and Kiki says shes there to make peace. She adds there’s an APB out for Ava’s sister Olivia-J.

Finn is freaking out because he can’t get to his lab, where I assume he’s keeping his stash. As he’s walking by, Dante tells him to take a chill pill. Brad hears, and says that Finn must be out of pills. He asks if Zen Zen will do and holds up a vial. Even after all these years, apparently, Finn isn’t a very good drug addict. Why didn’t he keep something at home just in case?

Monica tells Dante that Olivia-J is unstable on a good day, so be careful.

Anna asks Olivia-J where Robin is, and what did she do to her? Olivia says Anna’s history is coming back to haunt her.

Brad tells Finn that he should be taking more precautions. See? Even Brad knows better. Brad mentions that Finn had said he’d split the profits from the Blackwood Syndrome cure with him. Finn says he worked for years on it, and Brad worked for a whole day. Brad says that Finn cut him in exchange for his silence. He wasn’t included at all in the deal, so why should he do Finn any favors? Brad asks Finn what it’s worth.

Carly tells Michael  that Sonny lied and cheated, and she doesn’t know what she’s going to do with that, but he’s right that Michael has a kind heart. She tells him not to buy into Nelle’s victim act. Michael thinks it not that simple. Carly asks if Michael still has feelings for Nelle after all she did.

Nelle tells Josslyn she has to leave. Josslyn says they had this planned for months. Nelle says she can’t go; sometimes plans change. Even when you think you’ve covered all the bases, sometimes things happen that you don’t want to happen. She tells Josslyn to be glad that she didn’t find out the hard way, and that they’re no longer friends. Josslyn asks what she did wrong, and Nelle tells her to go home.

Sam marvels at how beautiful Scout is. She says that the name Scout is kind of plain, and she wants something to make it perfect. Jason thinks she has something in mind, and she does.

Monica wonders why she didn’t hear about everything from the police commissioner. Dante says he’ll have Jordan contact her asap. He radios looking for Jordan, and says Anna is MIA as well.

Olivia-J goes blah-blah-blah about how great Robin is, and how you’d never know she’s HIV positive. She tells Anna that she took Robin then, and she’s taken her again.

Brad asks Finn how many millions he was screwed out of. Finn says all he wants to do is help people, and hadn’t been interested in selling, but the hospital was going under. If he hadn’t sold the patent, GH would have been sold, and none of them would have jobs. Brad says who needs a job when you have millions? Finn says he’ll give him credit, but Brad says he was only interested in the cash. Finn says he didn’t promise any money, and Brad isn’t getting a dime. Brad says his promise to Finn is null and void.

Anna throws Olivia-J up against a wall. Olivia points out how much Anna is bleeding, and Anna gets dizzy. She slumps down, and Griff goes to her. Olivia tries to skate, but Griff tells her to hold it right there.

Ava complains to Kiki that Julian cleaned out her bar, even the olives, but Kiki has come bearing vodka.  Kiki asks about Olivia-J. Ava says Julian shot her years ago, and everyone thought she was dead, but in all fairness, she did try to kill Julian first. Kiki says their famil is insane, and Ava says she’s glad she’s never crossed paths with Olivia. Kiki tells her Olivia is the reason she’s out of jail; the police think she’s the one who planted the bomb that killed Morgan. Kiki apologizes for thinking that Ava had anything to do with Morgan’s death.

Carly begs Michael not to have a relationship with Nelle, and he says they’d barely started. Carly says she’s worried about his generous spirit. He’s a lot like Lila, and people took advantage of her. Michael says he has feelings for Nelle, but not the kind she thinks. He’s angry and humiliated, but he can’t hate her. Her father exploited her, and she targeted the person she thought was responsible. Carly asks if he thinks it’s her fault. He tells her that she didn’t deserve what happened, but neither did Nelle. Josslyn pops in, saying something is wrong with Nelle, and wonders if Carly knows what it is. Michael says he’ll let Carly explain, and leaves.

Monica visits Sam’s room. Sam says they were discussing the baby’s name. Monica thought they settled on Scout, but Sam says it’s kind of plain, and should be her middle name. Jason says they’d like to name her Emily. Monica is thrilled.

Griff tells Anna to stay with him. Olivia-J is like, how sad. (Insert sarcastic, tearful emoji here.) Griff tells her not to go anywhere, and holds the gun on her. Olivia points out that she’s unarmed, and that’s the choice he has to make – taking her to the police or saving Anna’s life. Which is more important? I guess he’s not thinking about the option of wounding her so she can’t leave.

Brad tells Finn that Monica should know about the patients who were under his drug-addled care. Finn says that they’ll question Brad too. He says once Brad became a pita, he started checking around about him. The main thing he’s heard is what a weasel Brad was, and how ethically corrupt, but Lucas reformed him. He wonders what Lucas will say about the blackmail, and if their marriage will survive. Brad tosses the vial to Finn, and says that’s the last thing he’s getting from him, and walks away. I could swear Finn tosses it in the trash, but that can’t be right.

Monica tells Sam and Jason that it’s wonderful. Jason says it was all Sam’s idea. Sam says she knows what Emily meant to everyone. She wants her daughter named after someone who brought joy to the family.

At The Floating Rib, Nelle orders a drink, saying that it’s a special occasion. The bartender says they’re short staffed, and she asks if they’re hiring. He tells her that he’ll talk to Felicia, and she tells him never mind. As a matter-of-fact, if Felicia comes in, give her a heads up. Michael suddenly appears and asks why, so she can hide? Hiding from the worst detective on the planet can’t be too difficult.

Carly forgot about the concert too. Note to self: Shawn Mendes is popular, but forgettable. Carly asks if Josslyn talked to Nelle. Josslyn says Nelle told her that they’re not friends anymore, but she doesn’t know what she did. How is she supposed to fix what she doesn’t know about? Carly tells her that Nelle doesn’t want to be her friend anymore because of her.

Michael joins Nelle. He says that he never saw her drink alcohol before, and she tells him now is a good time to start. He asks if she’s drowning her sorrows, and she asks if he can blame her. Michael says he’s the wrong person to ask. She says she reached out, and he says he got her texts. He tells her that he knows something terrible happened to her, and understands her need for revenge. She asks if he forgives her, but he says never.

Carly tells Josslyn that it’s not appropriate for her to be friends with Nelle. It’s not about her, and no one in their family is going to have a relationship with Nelle anymore. She says that Nelle lied to them about a lot of things. Josslyn asks if Nelle isn’t her kidney donor, and Carly says it wasn’t about that. She misrepresented herself. It was an act. She was manipulating everyone to get in and sabotage the family.

Kiki tells Ava that she should have had more faith in her, but Ava doesn’t blame her for doubting. Kiki says never again. Ava is a good person, or at least trying to become one.

Griff settles Anna into a hospital bed. Dante asks what happened, and Griff says Olivia-J happened. Dante asks where she is, and Griff tells him in the basement. Dante asks him to show him where. Griff asks the nurse to get a hematologist to see Anna, and goes with Dante.

Monica tells Jason and Sam that Emily is smiling down on them. An officer comes in with an update from Dante. Jason asks what’s wrong. Monica had hoped it would be resolved before she had to say something, but tells him the hospital is on lockdown until the police are done searching for Olivia-J.

Finn goes to Anna’s room. He says he told her to take it easy, and obviously she didn’t take his advice. She says, “Robin,” and he tells Anna that they’ll contact her. Brad stands in the doorway like an idiot. He sees Finn’s hand shaking and makes a puzzled face.

Dante says a lab under the hospital is crazy, and Griff says not as crazy as Olivia-J. He tells Dante about her trying to turn him into Duke. He thinks that she went through the passageway to the outside. Dante gives orders to the other officers. Griff gives him the gun, and says that Olivia was going to do something to Robin.

Ava wants to know what’s going on with Kiki. Kiki says things with Dillon are progressing into something good. Ava asks when she can take them out to dinner. Kiki says tonight; they already have a date. Ava says they should have their own time, and she wants a hot bath, a martini, and a good night’s rest. She says she’ll walk Kiki to car; with Olivia-J on the loose, it’s not safe.

Sam wonders if Olivia-J is there because of her. Monica says she’s interested in something buried beneath the hospital, but police are stationed on every floor, so Olivia won’t get near her. Sam says she knows Jason wants to go after her. He says he does, but he’s going to let the cops do their job, and he’s not leaving them.

Finn prepares a shot for Anna. He says she’ll be good as new in no time. He looks pretty shaky though. Brad watches from the doorway.

Griff asks Brad what’s going on. Brad says just between them, he thinks Finn isn’t in any condition to be treating Anna. It’s hard to tell if he’s genuinely concerned or just a jerk. Maybe both.

Carly won’t tell Josslyn what happened. She says the damage is done, and there’s nothing to fix. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to tell Josslyn. Josslyn says she’ll go to Sonny, but Carly tells her not to. She says Sonny did something she can’t accept, and it has nothing to do with Morgan. Josslyn asks if it has to do with Nelle. Carly says, yes, and that’s all she’s going to say. Josslyn puts two and two together, and says that’s gross.

Nelle tells Michael she understands, but that night at the cabin, she realized a future with them was worth more than revenge. He says her original goal was for his mom to suffer, but they’ve suffered enough. He says he understands why she felt justified, but Carly was shattered after Morgan died. He asks how Nelle could see that and want to hurt her more. Who sees someone suffering and devises to pile it on? Nelle says that’s not how it happened, and he says tell him where he’s wrong.

Nelle tells Michael he needs to know something. He asks if that’s true or does she just want to get something off her chest? He asks if it’s going to help family heal. Nelle says nothing, and he says that’s what he thought, and walks out. I’m confused. If she tells him that she didn’t really sleep with Sonny, that might actually be helpful, and what was his point in hunting her down? Just to reiterate that she did a bad thing?

Josslyn can’t believe Sonny would cheat on Carly with Nelle; it’s disgusting. Carly says sometimes people disappoint you. Josslyn asks if they’re divorcing, but Carly needs to think. Josslyn asks what they did to deserve this, and Carly says they did nothing. She says Nelle is a sick, sad person, and she’s going to make sure she never hurts their family again.

Finn tells Dante that Anna is responding well to treatment, and encourage her to avoid knife fights in the future. Griff wants to talk needs to Finn. He tells Finn that he’s going to let Monica know he’s addicted to Zen Zen. Poor Griff can’t catch a break. He goes right from being kidnapped, pretending to be Duke, and saving Anna, back to his day job.

Anna asks Dante what happened. She tells him that Olivia has done something to Robin, and he has to find her.

Jason wants to call Sonny to find out what he knows about Olivia-J, but Monica interrupts. She says good news, bad news. Olivia isn’t in the hospital anymore, but the police have no idea where she went.

Ava returns to her apartment. Olivia-J is on the couch sipping a martini. She says, nice to meet you, and tells her she’s out of olives.

We see the out of service sign on the elevator. The camera pans down through elevator shaft, and there’s a bomb at the bottom.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth thinks Hayden is in denial, Curtis finds something startling, and Anna says Robin is in trouble.

🍲 I’m going with the kid who has a mohawk  on MasterChef Junior. For no reason other than he has a mohawk. Tonight, the kids cooked filet mignon, along with potatoes and various vegetables, for a group of first responders. I’ve never had broccolini before, but it looks intriguing. What’s amusing is how these children are such sophisticated cooks, but they’re still children, and every once in a while, they get Ed Grimley crazy or have a meltdown. It’s amazing though, how few tears are shed when a contestant is cut from the competition, since it’s done so gently. The kids who stay cry more than the ones leaving. And those exiting get to keep their aprons.
