What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jordan comes back from Oz’s room, and Portia asks, what happened? Curtis asks if Oz is willing to talk, and Jordan says, Oz is willing to testify he sold the phone to Esme… provided they give him a deal. Portia says, and they gave him a good one, right?

Ava slips into the courtroom as Judge Young addresses the jury foreman. He says, in the matter of the State of New York versus Trina Robinson, has the jury reached a verdict? The foreman says, we have, your honor.

Nikolas says, Victor won’t ever find Esme, and Victor says, why not? Nikolas tells him, because she’s dead, and Victor asks how he knows. Nikolas says, it’s better not to get into… but Victor says he’s not asking again. Nikolas says he knows she’s dead because he killed her.

The judge tells the foreman to hand the verdict to the bailiff, when Robert bursts into the courtroom. He says, your honor, these proceedings have got to stop immediately.

At the MetroCourt bar, Nina gets a text from Sonny saying he’s thinking of her, and he’s sorry he had to work tonight. She texts back: Waiting will make it all the more sweeter. She hears a phone ding, and sees him standing behind her. He says he thinks waiting is overrated, doesn’t she?

A sign by the pool says, closed for a private party. Michael is hanging decorations, and comes down off the ladder, asking if Carly thinks Willow is going to like her surprise party. Carly says, she’s going to love it. It was sweet of him to plan all this for her. He says, she’s to be celebrated. Nursing school is no cakewalk, but raising a kid on top of it? Carly says, and growing one, and he says he’s really proud of her. Carly says she’s proud of Willow too, and Wiley says he’s helping. Crêpe paper is draped around him, and Carly asks if that’s what they’re calling it. How did he do this? Drew comes in, and Carly tells him, he can’t just stand there; he has to help. Michael tosses him a role of crêpe paper, and Drew says he thinks Wiley has the right idea. He looks good. Carly says she doesn’t think Drew can pull this look off, and he asks if that’s a challenge.

Willow hesitates, then knocks on Terry’s office door. Terry thanks her for getting here so quickly, and invites her in. Britt is also there, and Terry tells Willow, have a seat. They have a lot to discuss.

Jordan says, DA Scorpio agreed to the protections Oz asked for, and Portia says, thank God. Jordan says, he’s being prepped for transport to the courthouse right now, and Portia says, they have to hurry; they’re about to read the verdict. Curtis says, let’s just hope it’s in time, and Portia says, it has to be.

Judge Young asks, what’s the meaning of this? and Robert says, pressing evidence has come up which should be presented to the court. The judge says, such as? and Robert says, a new witness has come forward. Judge Young asks if the witness is present, and Robert says, no, but they’re on their way. Arden says, with all due respect, the jury has already returned a verdict. The time for new evidence has passed. Isn’t he her boss? Diane says, the foreman has not yet handed the verdict to the bailiff. Therefore, officially speaking, the verdict has not been entered, and new evidence may be presented. The judge asks them to approach the bench, and Spencer asks if Josslyn thinks this will work. She says, it better, and Ava asks Taggert if this is good news. He says he thinks this case is about to take a major turn.

Victor says, tell him exactly what happened, and Nikolas says he appreciates Victor’s interest, but he’s handling it. Victor says, he’s seen how well Nikolas cleans up his messes. How many times has Nikolas come to him for help? Nikolas says, not this time, and Victor says, Nikolas knows there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for this family. Nikolas says, including allowing Spencer to be shipped off to Pentenville, and Victor says, Spencer put his family first, which is what he’s trying to do. Now tell him exactly what happened to Esme, so all of them can come out of this unscathed. Nikolas says, the staff called him. They could hear Ava and Esme fighting. Victor asks if Esme told Ava about his transgression, but Nikolas says, no. Esme was trying to leave town, and Ava wasn’t having it. She wanted Esme to confess to framing Trina. Things got… heated. Fortunately, he arrived before Esme told Ava that they slept together. Victor says, that is fortunate, isn’t it? and Nikolas says he sent Ava off, and tried to talk some sense into Esme. Victor says he can imagine how that went, and Nikolas says, she was enraged, completely deranged. They struggled, and he pushed her off the parapet. Victor asks, what he did with the body, but Nikolas says he hasn’t found it. Victor says, then how does he know Esme is dead?

Robert tells the judge, Oz Haggerty has been named in testimony, and his name was mentioned, and his name has been mentioned relating to information on this case. Arden says, Diane informed them of this witness. She also said she didn’t know what his testimony would be or if he’d even be able to testify. Judge Young says, if the witness were present, he’d allow it, and Robert says, Mr. Haggerty has just come out of a coma. He’s agreed to testify for the defense, and is being brought here as we speak. His office strongly agrees they need to hear this information. It could change the course of the entire case. Diane says, and innocent young woman’s future is at stake. Will this court really jeopardize that over a technicality?

Nina says she thought Sonny had plans for tonight, and he says he had to change things around. She says, for her? and he says, he figured since doing this, why wait? She says, good, because she’s not the patient type, and he says, him neither. Does she want to have dinner? She says, tonight? and he says, right now. She says she knows someone pretty high up in this place, so she thinks she can get them a table. Olivia appears, and says, oh, hell no.

Drew tells Wiley to hit him with a streamer, and Wiley puts a strip of crêpe paper around Drew’s neck. Drew says, nice choice, and Carly says, he wears it well. Drew says, thanks to this guy, and he and Wiley high-five. Michael says, nice tie, and Drew says, Wiley’s helping him spruce up his wardrobe a little bit. Michael says, Drew needs it, and Carly says, crêpe paper chic is the new rage these days. Michael thanks Drew for pitching in, and says, Willow’s still at the hospital, so they have some time. Drew asks what he can do, and Michael says, how about centerpieces? Drew says, his specialty, and Carly says she’ll show him where they are. They leave, and Michael asks if Wiley wants to practice what to do when his mommy gets here. Wiley says, yeah, and Michael says, pretend he’s mommy walking into the party. Wiley says, mommy doesn’t walk like that, and Michael asks Wiley to cut him some slack. He’s mommy walking into the party, and what does Wiley yell? Wiley says, surprise! and Michael says, he’s a natural.

Britt asks if anyone else will be joining Willow, but Willow says, just her. Terry says, they want to start by congratulating Willow on her graduation. She’s worked incredibly hard, and it’s obvious Willow is going to be an excellent nurse. Britt says, they’re really lucky to have her here at GH, and Willow thanks them, but says she knows they didn’t ask her here just to congratulate her. Britt says, they didn’t, and Terry says, the results of her biopsy came back. The biopsy confirmed their initial suspicious; Willow has leukemia.

Judge Young tells Diane that he’ll decide how to uphold the integrity of this court, not her, and Diane apologizes. He tells them to return to their seats, and says, because DA Scorpio vouched for the witness’s imminent arrival, and because the jury hasn’t officially handed in the verdict, he’ll allow the testimony. His decision is conditional on the witness’s timely arrival. Any delays, and he’ll instruct the jury to hand in the verdict. Robert says, understood, your honor, and Trina asks Diane if they’re positive Oz is on his way. Diane says, if the DA says he’s on his way, then he’s on his way, and Trina asks if her mom or Curtis have tried reaching out to Diane. What if something happened?

Nina says, Olivia can’t refuse her service here anymore. She’s Olivia’s partner, remember? Olivia says, if only she could forget, and Sonny asks if they can’t act like adults here. Olivia says, just because Nina is co-owner doesn’t mean she can waltz in here and demand a table whenever the mood strikes. They’re fully booked. We see some of the tables are empty, and Sonny suggests they go somewhere else, but Nina says, no. She’s sure they can work something out. Olivia says, of course (🍷). They can just cancel the reservation of a paying customer at the last minute, so Nina can do her big flex. That would be a great business decision. Sonny says, they’ll just eat at the bar, and Nina asks if the bar is fully booked too, but Olivia says, they don’t take reservations for the bar, which any decent co-owner would know that. Um… I figured Nina was being facetious. Olivia leaves, and Nina says, that was fun. Sonny tells her, they’ll have to get used to it, and Nina says, she guesses so. He asks if it scared her off, but she says, not even a little bit.

Drew tells Carly, Michael is really going all out for Willow. It’s so sweet that he loves her so much. Carly says, he does, and she can’t tell Drew how much it makes her happy to see Michael happy. He’s settled; he’s confident. Michael finally has the family he deserves. He says, there must have been a day when she thought that might never happen; he means, when Nelle was around. She says, thank God that’s behind them, and Olivia strides in. She asks if she can talk to Carly for a second. Drew says, he’ll get to work, and leaves. Carly asks, what’s going on? and Olivia says, there is a situation in the restaurant, and Carly’s not going to like it.

Terry says, the test results confirm she’s in the early stages of leukemia. The words echo as Willow hears them, and Britt says, she knows it’s a lot to take in. Does Willow have any questions?

Nikolas tells Victor, if Esme was still alive, she’d have turned up by now. He’s been out searching; he’s still searching. All he found is a shoe, so he decided it best to let everyone believe that she took off, as she intended. Hopefully, her body is lost to the water, and no one will ever know the truth. Victor says, in the first place, that’s an awfully big hope, and Nikolas says, one that will pay off. Victor says, secondly, does Nikolas really take him for such a fool? and Nikolas asks what he means. Victor says, this whole cockamamie story of his doesn’t add up. So come on, out with it. Who is he trying to protect?

Curtis and Portia come into the courtroom, and Ava changes seats so they can sit behind Trina. Rory opens the courtroom door, and Jordan comes in with an orderly wheeling Oz. Diane says, the defense calls Oz Haggerty to the stand, and I cheer in my head.

Willow says, they’ve studied leukemia in her classes. She’s worked with cancer patients. Obviously she knows what it is, and how it’s treated, but… Britt says, hearing the actual words… and Willow says, it’s like a foreign language. Terry says, a whole team of doctors, including Britt and herself, will be with Willow every step of the way, and Willow says, it’s a difficult illness to treat. Terry says, she’s right, but they caught this at a very early stage, and Willow asks, will it affect… What does it mean for her baby? Britt says, they’ll discuss specifics once they have a treatment plan in place, but yes, her case is complicated by the pregnancy. For some types of cancer, treatment is delayed until the second trimester when the fetus is completely formed, but in general, chemotherapy drugs are detrimental to the development of the fetus.

Drew says, he met with Valentin, and Michael asks, how’d it go? Drew says, he may have a way to get Valentin to give up control of ELQ, and Michael says, that’s huge. Drew says, it’s definitely the long game, but anything is worth trying to get the family business back. Michael asks if he’s told Drew lately how happy he is Drew is back home, and Drew says, not lately, and it was starting to hurt his feelings. Michael says he feels like he has a real partner in Aurora, and Drew says, good, because he does.

Olivia says, Nina and Sonny are inside on a date, and Carly says, Olivia is probably going to see more of that now that Nina owns half the hotel. Olivia says, Carly’s half of the hotel, and now she’s parading Carly’s ex-husband around, trying to flaunt whatever she’s got going on. Carly says, it’s okay; it doesn’t bother her. Olivia asks how that’s even possible, and Carly says she hates that Nina owns her half of the hotel, and she’ll probably never be thrilled seeing Nina and Sonny together, but not because she has feelings for him. Sonny can do what he wants. She has everything she needs right here. Olivia looks over at the party being set up, and says, she really does. Her son, her grandson, and a very handsome, very good new friend.

Diane thanks Oz for making it here today, and asks if he’s ever met the defendant, Trina Robinson. He says, yes. She came by The Highsider with the girl from the video. Diane says, Josslyn Jax, and Oz says, that’s her in the back. Josslyn acknowledges that, and Diane asks, and when was this? He says, a couple of months ago, and she says, let’s see if we can narrow it down a bit, shall we? Was it June 15th? He says, sounds about right, and she says, so well after the video of Josslyn Jax and Cameron Webber was recorded? He says, yes, and she says, previous testimony has indicated that it was actually a woman by the name of Esme Prince who recorded the video. Does he know her? He says, yes. He confronted her about this trial, and he thinks she slipped something in his drink. Diane says, not the hallmark of an innocent woman, is it? and Arden objects. Diane says, withdrawn. Forensic evidence has shown us that the revenge porn video was recorded on a black market phone that was activated on January 28th. Did he sell that phone to Miss Prince? He says he did, and Diane shows him a picture of Esme. She asks if that’s the woman, and he nods, but she says, they’ll need an actual verbal confirmation from him. He says, yeah, that’s her, and Diane asks, when was that? He says, sometime in January; he doesn’t have an exact date. She says, one last question. Has he ever at any time sold any phone, black market or otherwise, to the defendant, Trina Robinson? He says, no, and she says, no further questions. Portia says, yes! and everyone applauds. Judge Young says, order, and tells Arden, her witness. Robert whispers something to Arden.

Nikolas asks Victor, who would he be protecting? He’s protecting himself. He didn’t mean to kill Esme. Victor says, if that’s true, Nikolas has nothing to hide. Neither Ava nor Spencer will ever find out he slept with Esme, so as far as everyone is concerned, he has no motive. He can just go to the police, and tell them there’s been a terrible accident. Nikolas says, no, and Victor says, then tell him what really happened, or he’ll go to the police. Nikolas says, most of what he told Victor is true, except Ava does know about him and Esme. Victor says, that’s the real reason Ava isn’t living here, and Nikolas says, yes. Victor says, and Esme? and Nikolas tells him, she and Ava fought like he said. He came home and heard them on the parapet. All he saw was Esme going over the ledge. Victor says, so Ava killed Esme, and Nikolas says, Ava swore she didn’t push Esme, and he believes her, but he knows how it looks. No one will buy it’s an accident. Victor says, there was a physical fight? and Nikolas says, Ava’s DNA could be on Esme. So now does Victor understand why it’s best everyone believes Esme skipped town? Victor says, Nikolas covered for Ava, and Nikolas says, of course (🍷) he did. Victor says, yet Ava still left him, and Nikolas says, Ava’s rightfully upset, but she sees the wisdom in them staying married. Victor says, if it gets out that Nikolas slept with Esme, right there is the motive, and Nikolas says, exactly. Victor asks how Nikolas is going to carry on this charade without Ava living here, and Nikolas says, she just needs to cool down. And when she does, he’ll prove to her that they belong together. She’ll come back. Victor says he has to admit he likes Ava. She fits right into this family. That said, now she’s a threat, and all threats have to be eliminated.

Willow sits down, and says, what about her own prognosis? Terry says, while there are no guarantees, Willow’s prognosis is hopeful. It’s at a very early stage, but they need more information as soon as possible. She’d like to make an appointment for further testing so they can finalize her treatment plan by the end of the week. Willow says she’s sorry; she can’t do that. Terry says she understands Willow must be reeling, but she and Dr. Westbourne are there to answer any questions she has. Britt tells her, feel free to get a second opinion, and Terry says she stresses time is of the essence. Early treatment would be favorable. Willow says she knows, but she needs a minute to think. It’s a lot of factors to weigh… so much. Britt says she’ll clear her morning tomorrow, and they can talk as long as Willow wants, and Terry tells Willow to take tonight to discuss things with her family. Willow thanks them, and says she has plans with Michael tonight, but she’ll think about everything they said, and she’ll follow up. Terry says, soon? and Willow promises. She gets up and gets her bag, and Terry says she doesn’t like the idea of Willow being alone right now. Is there anyone they can call for her?

Wiley helps Drew with the balloons, and Drew says, nicely done. They high-five, and Drew says, let’s get to work. Carly tells Olivia, Drew is a really good friend, and looks have nothing to do with it. Olivia says she doesn’t think she realized what good friends Carly and Drew had become until Carly put up her half of the hotel to help him out, and Carly says she doesn’t know what Olivia is talking about. She invested in a company which is owned by Michael. Remember Michael, her son? Olivia says, Drew also had something to do with it, and Carly says she’s stopping Olivia there. Olivia asks where Carly thinks she’s going, and Carly says, Olivia is insinuating there’s something going on with her and Drew. She can’t even fathom how complicated that would be. Olivia says, so Carly has thought of it, and Carly says, keep your voice down. Olivia tells her, she’s just saying.

As they eat at the bar, Nina says she’s sorry she couldn’t get them a table, but Sonny says, he’s not. They’ve got the best seat in the house. Nina says, even though they’re a little exposed? and he says, they’re going be exposed no matter what. I have to mention, not one other person is sitting at the bar, so it’s not like they’re cramped or it’s not private enough. She says she guesses it’s better than a verbal lashing from his ex-wife’s best friend. He says, it’s a hell of a first date, ain’t it? and she says, it’s funny to hear him say first date. He says, it is for them. What’s funny? She says she’s wondering if there’s any other couple out there who’s had two different versions of their relationship like they have. First it was Nina and Mike; now it’s Nina and Sonny. He says, you can’t say they don’t make it interesting, and she agrees. They lean in for a kiss, but Sonny’s phone rings, and he says he has to get this. Brick?…  What did he find out? Anything?… Can he get back to him?… Yeah. Thank you. Nina asks if he has to go, and he says, yeah. He had Brick follow up on something, and now he has to deal with it. He’s sorry. She says, don’t be, it’s okay, and he says, they’re doing this, right? Her and him? She says, that’s the plan, and he says, all right. So there are still some things she needs to know… about his business.

Nikolas says, he’ll kill Victor before he lays a hand on Ava, but Victor says, calm down. It doesn’t have to be that drastic. Nikolas put himself at great risk for this woman. What if Esme shows up alive? What then? Nikolas says, he’ll cross that bridge when he gets there, but Victor says, there will be no time to cross bridges if she goes straight to the authorities. Nikolas tells him, quit worrying about something that hasn’t happened, and most likely won’t. Esme hasn’t turned up at the hospital, she has no resources, zero friends, and besides, it’s not her style to go to the cops. She would rather hold this over their heads. Victor tells him, say Esme is dead – Nikolas says, God willingthe harbor won’t keep its secrets forever. Sooner or later, Esme’s body is going to wash up, and when it does, all evidence is going to point to Ava. Doesn’t Nikolas see that the deeper he gets into covering this up, the harder it will be to avoid charges as an accomplice? Nikolas has to turn Ava in, or he will.

Arden says, in light of this new evidence, the DA’s office is dropping the charges. The courtroom goes wild with joy, and Judge Young calls for order, banging his gavel. He says, on behalf of the state of New York, he thanks the jury for its service. He tells Trina, the state of New York has dropped all charges against her. She’s free to go. Court is dismissed. The foreman tosses the verdict into a wastebasket, and Dex watches. Portia says, they did it, and she and Taggert hug Trina. Trina asks if this is really happening, and Portia says, you’re free, baby girl. You are free. Everyone is ecstatic, and Dex saunters over to the wastebasket, takes out the slip of paper with the verdict, puts it in his pocket, and casually leaves.

Willow says, there’s no need to call anyone. She’s fine. Britt says, she doesn’t even have to tell them about the diagnosis, and Terry says, it would be extra support for her. (Here’s where the news breaks in with something that can’t wait ten minutes. Why, God, why?) Britt says, Willow just got dealt some very big and difficult news, and Willow says, yes. It is big and difficult and she can’t really wrap her head around it right now. She just needs to take some time. Is that okay? Terry says, of course (🍷), and Britt says, they understand. Willow thanks them, and says, she’ll be in touch tomorrow. She leaves, and out in the hallway, she leans against the wall, breathing heavily.

Carly looks at her phone, and says, Trina was exonerated. Thank God. Olivia says, really? That’s incredible. Carly says she’d love to believe this nightmare is over, but won’t be until they nail Esme for what she did. Olivia says, there’s not a big enough book in this world for them to throw at that girl. Now is Carly done deflecting? Carly says, Olivia’s theory that she has feelings for Drew… Olivia says, is spot-on? and Carly says, is so ridiculous, it doesn’t even deserve a response. Olivia says, okay, she’ll back off, but just so Carly knows, she thinks it goes both ways. Carly says, she does? and Olivia says, Drew was really worried about Carly when she lost her half of the hotel. She really felt like there were feelings there. Carly says, there are feelings. Friendly feelings. That’s all. Olivia says, okay, when Drew comes by, and asks, what’s next? Olivia says she has to get the cake, which is inside the restaurant, but her phone dings. She says, Leo. It’s okay, but she should probably call. Carly says, she can get the cake; she knows where it is. Go call her son. Olivia leaves, and Drew says he can help Carly, but she says, it’s okay, and walks out.

In the hallway, Diane says, Robert Scorpio. You did a good thing today. It was a great thing actually. He says, just fulfilling the needs of the job, and she says, really? A little more than that she thinks. Trina Robinson is a remarkable young woman, so he’s a credit to his community, to his office… He pretends to be overcome, and says, two compliments in one day? She tells him, don’t get used to it, and leaves.

Taggert says he’s so proud of Trina. How does she feel? She says, relieved, exhausted, thrilled. For so long, this has been hanging over her like she’s been waiting for D-Day. He says, decision day, and she says she wasn’t able to think about anything else. And now, her life is back again. Portia says, Trina’s future is wide open, and she can’t wait to see what Trina is going to do with it. They hug again.

Josslyn says she’s sorry Spencer’s plan didn’t work out the way he’d hoped, and he says, all that matters is that Trina’s free. He doesn’t care how they got here. She asks what he was going to tell Trina, and he asks what she means. She says, Trina still has no idea when he switched over to her side. After everything Trina has been through, doesn’t he think she deserves some answers?

Nikolas tells Victor, he messed up hugely when he cheated on Ava. At the very least, he owes it to her to protect her, and he will. If Victor cares about this family, like he claims to, he’ll say nothing. Victor says, and watch Nikolas go down in flames with Ava? Not a chance. Nikolas says, what about Spencer? If Victor throws Ava under the bus, it will come out that Nikolas slept with Esme, and Spencer will never forgive him. Is that what Victor wants? This is him putting his family first, and Ava is his family. So is Victor with him, or against him? Victor says, all right. He’ll do whatever Nikolas needs, but his story has to be airtight. They have to destroy all the evidence that leads to Nikolas and Ava. He’s assuming Nikolas has taken care of that, but what about the shoe? Nikolas says, it’s hidden, along with the suitcase, and Victor says, it’s hidden? That’s not enough. Everything has to be destroyed – and now. Yeah, I’m with Victor here. I thought it was really stupid for Nikolas to hang onto that stuff.

Curtis says, Trina is probably already all hugged out, but she says she thinks she can do one more. He hugs her and says, congratulations. She thanks him for keeping an eye out for the bartender. If it hadn’t been for that… Portia says, yes, thank you. Thank you for everything. He says he’d do anything for the two of them, if that’s not obvious by now. Portia says, it is.

Taggert tells Jordan, he appreciates her talking to Robert; getting him to play ball with Oz, and letting him testify. She says, it was a team effort, and he says, it was a game changer. It set his daughter free. She says, now that they have Oz’s testimony on record… He says, come out, come out, Esme, wherever you are, and Jordan says, she’s going down.

Ava hugs Trina, and says she’s so happy for her. She just knew it would all work out. Trina says, she means she hoped. There’s no way they could have known; none of them did. Ava says, don’t be so sure. She happens to be very resourceful.

Nina says, Sonny doesn’t have to explain, and he says, but he does, and he’ll tell her why. Because this isn’t going to be like being with Mike in Nixon Falls. There’s going to be dates he cuts short, dates he cancels. There’s going to be places he goes, who knows where, and she’s going to ask a lot of questions, but he’s not going to be able to give her answers. She says she gets it. She’s already accepted all of that. She doesn’t want to know the answers to those questions. She wouldn’t touch those answers with a ten-foot pole. He says, smart woman, and she says, it goes both ways. Don’t dare ask her who’s on September’s cover of Crimson. He laughs, and says he wouldn’t dream of it. He kisses her, and says he’ll call her later. She says, he’d better, and he gives her a lingering look before he leaves, and she sighs.

In the hallway, Sonny calls Brick, and asks what he found out about Dex.

Willow walks into the pool area, and only Michael is there. He runs over to her, saying, no, no, no. He thought they were meeting in the restaurant. It was going to be a surprise. He was going to bring her out here… this whole thing. She asks, what is all this? and he says, it’s her graduation party. She says, oh wow… She’s… He asks, what’s wrong?

Carly is bringing the cake through the MetroCourt, and something falls off the top of the box. Carly puts the box on the bar, and turns to pick it up, but Nina hands it to her. She asks if she can help Carly.

Sonny meets Dex in an alleyway, and Dex says he has some news. Sonny says he has some news too… about Dex. Dex says, oh, and Sonny moves closer. He says, it’s not good.

Josslyn tells Trina, she’s been waiting forever to say this – study abroad, here we come. Trina says, hold on. She still needs to be reinstated at PCU. Josslyn says, she will, and Rory joins them. Josslyn says she’s going to call Cam, and tell him the good news. She leaves, and Rory says, free woman. Trina says, that’s me, and he says, looks good on her. Ava looks at Spencer sadly, and leaves.

In the hallway, Portia asks Curtis, where’d Jordan go? He says, Taggert said she left on a mission, and he’s guessing it ends up at Windymere. Ava comes out, and listens. Curtis says, Jordan is hellbent on finding Esme Prince.

Rory says he’s going home to change, and asks if he can see Trina later. She says, text her, and he says, if she’s too tired, he totally gets it. She says, text her, and he says he will. He leaves, and Spencer comes over to Trina. He says, big day, and she says, one of the biggest. He says he’s so relieved she’s exonerated, and she says, if he were to tell her that a couple of days ago, she wouldn’t have believed him. Is he finally going to tell her what changed? He says, everything.

Nikolas brings down the suitcase, and the doorbell rings. Victor grabs the suitcase, and goes out the patio door, hiding it behind a bush. Nikolas answers the door to find Jordan and a couple of officers. He says, good evening, and she says she’s following up on their discussion about Esme. Victor jets over to them, and says, now is not a good time, Nikolas says he’ll call and set up a meeting, but Jordan holds up a warrant, and says, that wasn’t a request.

Tomorrow, Jordan says she has a warrant to search the premises; Trina says, Spencer is going to tell her what changed; and Sonny tells Dex, this is how he deals with liars.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Brook opens her eyes to a naked Chase who asks, is this hot enough for you? and gets in her bed. She wakes, and says she’s been single way too long.

After hot yoga class, Drew tells Chase, if this is what staying in shape looks like in 2022, he might have to consider confinement again. Chase says, it’s supposed to be a nice total body workout. It’s supposed to get you limber, which is weird because he doesn’t think he can get up. Curtis holds out his hand, and says, forget about being limber. This was torture. Compared to work, there’s nothing worse. Drew says, really? Nothing?

Marshall brings Epiphany a bouquet of flowers, and she asks what they’re for. He says, these, Dr. Johnson… Nurse Johnson, are an expression of gratitude, for sharing her dulcet tones with him, the staff, and the patients of General Hospital. Now when can they do it again? Epiphany laughs.

The class changes, and Maxie sees Chase coming out. She asks how class was, and he says, it’s exhausting. She says that’s why she hates hot yoga; he’s probably dehydrated. She asks how Bailey is, and he says, she’s amazing. She does this thing where she feeds herself. She’s trying to. It makes for a hilarious and very messy mealtime. She says she’d love to see that, and he says she should come by the house… and realizes he’s saying it like he lives at the Quartermaines. He says he’s actually headed there now, as long as Brook doesn’t have a problem with it. Maxie asks why she would, and he says, you never know with her lately. He tells Maxie, see ya around, and leaves. She goes into class, and tells Lucy that they should really air the place out after hot yoga class. Lucy says, what? and Maxie asks if the nose of Deception can’t smell how stank it is in there. Lucy says she hadn’t noticed, and looks zen already.

Laura sits with Martin at the MetroCourt, and asks where Lucy is. He says they just ordered breakfast, and she bolted. Something about exercise he thinks. She tells him, you don’t say, and he sits back, saying, go ahead. She says, what? and he says, she’s sitting there flexing her sisterly muscles, dying to warn him off the delightful Miss Coe. She says, nope. She has no sisterly advice for him. In fact, she’s got to go focus on being a grandmother.

At Kelly’s, Esme wonders what she should pack for a cabin getaway, and asks Spencer if Sonny’s cabin has a hot tub or sauna. He says he doesn’t know; he’s never been there. Besides, doesn’t she think it’s a little early for packing? She says she’s just excited; isn’t he? He says it’s hard to get excited about a trip, knowing when it’s over, so is his life. (Dramatic much?)

Willow is sworn in at Nina’s hearing.

Valentin comes up behind Martin, and takes off Martin’s Santa hat. He says, trouble at the mall? Martin says, oh what fun it is to laugh. The holiday spirit lingers this year. Not that it had anything to do with Valentin. Valentin sits, and says, what is it now? and Martin says, his gift must have gotten lost in the mail, but Valentin says, clients don’t give gifts; clients receive gifts. Martin says, forgive him. It’s hard to get all the holiday shopping in when you’re busy avoiding death. Valentin says, congratulations, and Martin says, on being alive? Valentin says, yes. He thought if Cyrus didn’t kill Martin, surely Laura would. Martin says, a hardy humbug to him too, and Valentin laughs.

Brook races into what is apparently called the Nook, grabbing some coffee, and Ned asks, when was the last time she slept in like this? She says she was up all night with Bailey, and when she finally got to bed, all she could do – she thinks about her dream – was toss and turn. She asks, where is the oat milk in this house? He says, bad dreams? and she says, something like that. What is Ned even still doing there? She thought he and Olivia had an appointment with Leo’s doctor. He says, soon, but he always has time for his one and only daughter. And the mess she’s made of her one and only life.

Martin says he’d hoped Valentin’s Turkey Day revenge had dulled the pain of losing Bailey, but he doesn’t think there’s a slice of ELQ big enough to make up for losing the love of a child. Valentin says, no, and Martin says he’s sorry; both for Valentin going through it, and that he wasn’t there when Valentin did. Valentin says Brook hurt him. Worse than that, she hurt his daughter Charlotte, and he wants to make sure she pays for that. Martin says, that’s his boy. Does Valentin want to order breakfast, and mull over ways to even the score? Valentin says he does, but right now he has other matters on his plate. Victor walks in, but Anna intercepts him, and says she doesn’t think so.

Esme says Spencer’s been going through a lot, so much stress. It will be good for him to get away; for both of them. When was the last time they had any privacy? He admits it’s been ages, and she says they could really use some time behind closed doors. Laura comes in and asks what today’s special is.

Carly wonders what Scotty is doing, and Sonny says, he’s probably trying to get them to drop the charges by going after the DA’s credibility. Michael says, he’s turning the attention away from Nina and onto him, but did he have to use Willow? Carly says, Willow will be fine, and Michael says, she will, but Scotty won’t. Not when he’s through with him. Sheridan says, sorry to spring this on Willow, but he wants to address opposing council’s allegations. Has she ever donated to his campaign as Pennsylvania Attorney General? She says, no, and he says, his previous campaigns for Llantano District Attorney? She says, no, and he asks if she’s met him prior to today. She says, in October, at the home she shares with her son and his father, Michael Corinthos. Sheridan asks if she can describe the nature of that meeting, and she says she arrived home to find him and Michael speaking. He asks if she remembers the subject, and she says, their shared values. He says, what else? and she says, there were introductions, and then he had to get back to Llanview. He asks if at any point during that meeting she came to know that Michael had pressed him to bring a case against the defendant. She says, no, and he thanks her for clearing that up. No further questions. Judge Milford asks if opposing council has any questions, and Scotty says, one or two, and gets up.

At the Bistro, Drew says, Corinthos Coffee, and Curtis says, not much to choose from in these parts. Drew says he’s not complaining. It’s nice to come back and have at least one thing unchanged. Curtis asks if the thrill of his homecoming is wearing off a bit, but Drew says, not the Scout part. Seeing Scout is thrilling every single time, and after talking to only guards for the past few years, having a conversation with a normal person is quite a trip. (Was he kidnapped in 1975?) Curtis says, but the rest? and Drew says he can only sit on his butt at Monica’s for so long. He has to do something with his life; he has to be productive. He just has no idea where to start. Curtis says, what about Aurora Media? and Drew says, Curtis means the company he and Sam created for a fresh start? Curtis says, good point. There’s no place for him at ELQ? Drew says he’d have to get a therapist first. Thanks to Curtis, he does have something to do with his time. He’s been thinking about Marshall, and may have come up with an angle.

Epiphany tells Marshall, she thought the flowers were to say thank you, and he says, they are, but he was also hoping to soften her up for his proposition. She asks, what proposition is that? and he says he had a wonderful time last night. She says she did too, and he says he thought so, but she didn’t stick around long enough to say so. She says she thought it was obvious, and he says, maybe she’s just more inclined to express herself through song rathe than word. She laughs, and says, he’ll soon learn she has no problem speaking her mind… If he sticks around. He says he plans to, and leans forward. He tells her that he thinks they make beautiful music together, so he wanted to ask her – she says, yes? – if she wants to join his band.

Brook says she should have put Ned’s empathy on her Christmas list. Why can’t they go one week without him coming down on her? Like she doesn’t know she has issues. Like she needs him to point them out. She’s trying to make her life better, and him, of all people, talking about mess? What’s going on with him and Olivia? Are they even in the same bed? The same room? The same wing? He says she’s right. He’s the standard bearer for messes in this family. She’s an amateur by comparison. She says she’s confused, and he says if she has any issues, it’s in large part because of him. What kind of example has he set when it comes to relationships? What kind of example has he set when it comes to anything actually, and he’s sorry for his choice of words. He thought the word mess was an objective take, and something they have in common. She says, now they’re bonding over their mutual chaos? and he says, maybe they can come up with some solutions. He’s been working on his mess with Olivia, and he’s been doing some thinking about her situation with Chase. She needs to get out in front of this. Make sure Chase doesn’t hold Bailey over her head like Valentin did. From the doorway, Chase clears his throat.

Scotty says, Willow referred to Michael as the father of her son, the man she lives with, not married. She says, no, and he says, that’s kind of a modern arrangement. Sheridan says, it’s irrelevant, and the judge tells Scotty, stick to the point. Scotty asks if she and Michael revisited the subject of the DA’s visit after he left, and she says, the subject came up. He asks if she took it at face value; two guys just shooting the breeze about values. She says she wondered about it. and he asks if that wondering got the best of her. Did she ask Michael? She tells Judge Milford that she thought her conversations with Michael were protected, but the judge says, they’re not. Scotty says, spousal privilege doesn’t apply to co-parenting, but you know what applies to just about everyone? The penalty for perjury.

Maxie tells Lucy, the timing of this IPO could be better. Does she think they should give Sasha time to grieve? She can’t imagine Sasha can work right now; she doesn’t know how Sasha is functioning at all. Lucy flashes back to her tryst with Martin while she says, ohm. Then she says, ohmmmmMartin. Maxie says, what was that now?

Martin asks Valentin, just out of curiosity, who should he be more concerned for? Anna or Victor? Valentin says, Victor, definitely.

Anna says, eyes on her, and Victor says, it’s a wonder anyone’s eyes are ever off of her; his son’s in particular. What exactly is the nature of their relationship? She says she thinks that falls under the category of none of his bustiness, kind of like his stretching this morning during his pastoral workout. He says he didn’t see her there, and she says, she’s everywhere. She saw him picking up The Invader, and he picked up mints; that was very considerate. She was also at Kelly’s when he visited Spencer. He says, she’s following him, and she says she is. Port Charles is her home, so from here on out, she’ll be his shadow. And if he gets out of line, she’ll be there to deal with him. He says, the way she dealt with Peter? and she smiles.

Spencer pours coffee for Laura, and says he brewed it himself. She says, he’s learned his way around a coffeemaker, and Esme says, he’s doing a great job, grandmother… Sorry, she meant mayor. Laura tells her, Laura will be fine for now, and says Doc been telling her about this wonderful shift he’s seen in Spencer, but she doesn’t know if it’s because of this job, or just a byproduct of getting caught. Spencer says, here it comes. He knew it was too good to last. Christmas is gone, so is the peace. Let him have it. How disappointed is she? Or has her disapproval moved on to hate, just like his father?

Scotty asks if Willow needs a refresher course in the consequences of lying in court, but she says, that won’t be necessary. Michael told her, like many businesses, his family’s company seeks relationships with political figures, and Scotty says, the evidence shows, the DA received a huge chunk of money from her and Michael. The DA objects, saying, no such evidence has been offered. Miss Tate has never made a donation to his campaign that he’s aware of. Judge Milford says, sustained, and Scotty says, ELQ made a huge donation to Sheridan’s campaign before his client’s arrest. So what was expected from that donation in return? Willow says she wasn’t privy to the conversation, and Scotty says, but she must have thought Michael was going to get something for his gift. She says, Michael’s only interest was in justice, and Scotty says, for whom? She says, for his father. Nina kept Sonny from his family for nine months. Scotty asks if she didn’t expect Michael was going to get the DA to pursue charges against his client for his donation, and Sheridan objects, saying Scotty is close to badgering. The judge says, sustained. Scotty asks if it isn’t Willow’s understanding that the DA was going to bring charges against Nina in exchange for a hefty donation to him. She tells him, whatever was said was between Michael and DA Sheridan. As far as she’s aware, the contribution was entirely above board and legal. He says, funny she should bring legal up, because that’s what they’re trying to get to. Do the charges against Nina even merit a trial, or should they just be tossed out; that it was possibly an act of heroism. Does she have any reason to believe that the alleged victim, Sonny Corinthos, sees himself as a victim at all?

Victor tells Anna to forgive him if he finds her threats lacking in substance. As he understands it, she’s had multiple opportunities to end Peter’s reign of terror, yet every single time, she’s backed off, which confounds him. He’s read her file. Her no-nonsense reputation is well-earned. She thanks him, but says, yet here he is still testing her. He says, by living his life? and she says, by imposing himself on Valentin. He laughs, and says, they’ve come full circle. She does care for Valentin, doesn’t she? While he’s truly gratified at her attachment to his son, he suspects Valentin is even more so.

Epiphany says, Marshall is putting together a band? and he says he’d be honored to land her as the lead vocal. He thinks their chemistry is off the charts. She says, it was just one performance, and he says, exactly. It can take people weeks, sometimes months, to gel like that. They were total strangers, nowhere near a studio, or anything resembling a stage, singing holiday tunes, yet it was still a natural fit. He got to talking with the other musicians afterwards, and they all thought, why not give it a shot? Get together for at least one day, and feel out something that doesn’t sound like it’s wrapped in tinsel. What does she say?

Drew says, Curtis hasn’t been able to find out much about Marshall Ashford, and Curtis says, he’s got zero digital footprint, and if his mother owned any property with him, she parted ways with it a long time ago. Drew says, civic documents? and Curtis says, birth certificates, educational records, but all of that dried up after Marshall married his mom. Drew says, he’s no P.I., but it seems strange, and Curtis says, very. It suggests Marshall had another life before he came here, or someone went to great lengths to erase all traces of him. Drew says, then maybe it’s time they stop looking for Marshall Ashford… Curtis says, and start looking for the man he’s pretending to be.

Carly wonders what’s going on, but Michael doesn’t know. Scotty says, Willow is close to the crime; that’s why the prosecution called her. She possesses a different perspective that the judge might want to consider before this goes to trial. Judge Milford allows it, but tells Scotty, keep it moving. Scotty asks if Willow would like him to repeat the question, but she says, no. To her knowledge, Sonny is no one’s victim. Scotty says, he’ll rephrase it then. Sonny testified that he didn’t bring charges against Nina because he wanted to move on with his life; he’d lost enough time with his wife and family. Does she think Sonny left anything out? Sheridan objects, and asks if Scotty can be more vague. The judge tells Scotty to get where he’s going; make it fast and make it direct. Scotty asks if she thinks Sonny had some sort of unstated motivation to not sic the state on Nina.

Laura says, she could never hate Spencer. Is she disappointed? Absolutely. He put his father, Ava, and Ava’s daughter through a living nightmare. He says, Avery was never in any danger, but she says, Avery was kept away from her mother, and don’t make excuses. It just makes everything worse. What he did was horrible. Esme says, he didn’t do it alone. He had help from her. Spencer says, she was just trying to be supportive, and she says, but she went overboard, and should have used better judgement. Laura says, that’s an understatement, and Spencer says, he’s learned his lesson, but Laura says, has he? Really? Spencer says she doesn’t believe him? and she says she wants to believe him, but the fact he’s thrown in with Victor makes her wonder.

Valentin tells Martin, Victor’s sudden revelation that he’s a Cassadine has him wondering if there’s any wiggle room in the will. Martin says, what will? Mikkos’s? The one who got Ava thrown off the parapet? That will? Valentin says, if he could avail himself of some of the fortune that Nikolas stole after all, it would make for a happy ending, wouldn’t it? Martin says he’ll look into it. If he were Valentin, he’d just focus on Victor. Shake the tree, and see what comes loose. Valentin says he can handle Victor, and it looks like Anna can as well. Martin asks how are things with Anna, and Valentin wonders if he’s asking for a friend, but Martin says he’s not throwing his hat in the ring. They both say, he’d lose, and Martin says, there’s no need for a duel. With all due respect to Anna, he’s decided to move on.

Maxie says, Martin Gray? and Lucy says, namaste; keep her voice down. Maxie says, sorry. She had no idea Lucy was interested in him. Lucy says, neither did she, and Maxie says, tell her what happened. Lucy says, he fell into her lap. No, she fell into his lap, and the rest is sort of history. Maxie says, good history? and Lucy says, it was so fun.

Ned says he hopes Chase isn’t offended, and Brook says, he just compared Chase to a Cassadine, but Ned says, Chase comes out far ahead in comparison. Brook says, lightyears ahead, and Ned says, but Valentin has already started his retaliation for the lie about Bailey, and there’s sure to be more to come. Brook says, and his point? and Ned says, children bring out the best and worst in people. He’d hate to see his granddaughter used as a weapon again between warring parents. Chase says he’d hate to see that happen too, and Ned says, good. His suggestion is for the two of them to sit with lawyers, and iron out their respective roles in Bailey’s life. The clearer they are now, the less room for conflict moving forward. Chase says, makes sense, and Ned says, it’s all about the boundaries.

Scotty tells Willow to wrack her brain, and Nina tells him, no. He asks if Willow knows any reason Sonny wouldn’t file charges against the woman who allegedly kept him away from his family. Willow says, she’s not in Sonny’s head. She can’t tell him all Sonny’s reasons, and Scotty says, one reason. Give him one singular reason. Nina says, no, but he tells her, quiet. He asks why Sonny wouldn’t want restitution, and Sonny tells Carly, let’s go. She says, now? and he takes her hand, heading for the door, but she stops. Scotty says, the penalty for perjury is seven years behind bars in another state away from her son. How old does she think her son will be when she gets out? Willow says, yes, and he says, yes what? She says, there is another reason why Sonny didn’t go after Nina.

Epiphany says she has no time to devote to a band, but Marshall says, they’ll work around her schedule. She says her shifts are all over the place, and he asks if it’s her polite of saying no. She says, it’s not a no or a yes. She got turned around when he said proposition, that’s all. He says, oh. Oh. She thought he was asking her out. She says, her mistake, but he says, for the record, if he were to ask out a virtual stranger, he sincerely doubts he could aim higher than her. The truth is, he doesn’t date. He hasn’t for a long time. The fact is, he wasn’t very good at it, but if he could ever interest her in a jam session… She says, it’s possible. It depends on her schedule. He says, then just follow the music, she laughs, and he leaves.

Curtis tells Drew that Marshall has had several aliases, and probably lived under several dozen rocks over the decades, but he has no leads, and the guy’s not forthcoming with information. Drew says, so Curtis asked? and Curtis says, more like demanded, but the more Marshall said nothing or talked around the answers he wanted, he just got so pissed… Drew says, he shut right down, and Curtis says, so if he goes in all curious and nice, Marshall will be suspicious. Drew says, then let him try. Let him do the digging. Curtis should just play it straight. Curtis asks, how? and Drew says, they can’t get a lead on Marshall’s missing years, so they need Marshall to cough one up. They lay a job in his path, something that’s just too good to resist. He’ll have to put down his social security number or a reference or something. Real or fake, it doesn’t really matter; it will give them a place to start. Curtis says, a job; that’s good. He says, Drew does know this means he’ll have to deal with Aurora or ELQ, and Drew says, let him deal with that. Curtis wonders what kind of gig Drew can put out there. As far as he knows, all the guy does is music. Drew says, believe it or not, music is something his family knows.

Brook asks if Ned is done with his extremely practical and very mercenary advice, and he says he is. She tells him that he should go; he doesn’t want to be late for his appointment. He says he’ll provide her council, and tells Chase to let them know when he’s found a lawyer. He leaves, and Brook says she’s so sorry about Ned butting in, but to be fair, it’s a family tradition. Chase says, he would get a lawyer, if he were actually working and could actually pay for one, and if Bailey was actually his, but he does agree with boundaries. He’ll do everything he can to keep up appearances for Maxie and the baby, but when it comes to them, she needs to let him know how much space she needs, and he’ll give it to her.

Lucy says, ohm, and the instructor says, the eternal. Earth, air, heaven… Maxie asks Lucy if there’s going to be a second round, and Lucy says they kind of talked about it. Maxie says, she’d like there to be, right? and the instructor suggests they focus on their breathing. Maxie asks if Lucy wants to get out of there and grab a latte, so they can chat about it. They dash out, Lucy saying, namaste, as they go out the door.

Martin tells Valentin, Lucy Coe, and asks if Valentin is wishing he could trade places. Valentin says, no. He’s wishing he had a lawyer with more common sense. Lucy is his business partner. They’re about to take Deception public. It’s going to make him, Lucy, and Martin a lot of money. Martin says he’s still not seeing the problem, and Valentin says, Martin can’t effectively represent him and his best interests if he’s sleeping with Lucy Coe, who, by the way, is notorious for getting the better of her lovers. If Lucy gets the better of Martin, she gets the better of him. So Martin can have him or Lucy, but he can’t have both.

Anna says she’ll be keeping an eye on Victor, and he asks if that isn’t superfluous, given his deal with the WSB, but she says she’s not beholden to a deal. So she strongly advises him to behave himself. He says, or? and she says, he read her file. You tell me. She walks away.

Spencer says, Uncle Victor is the only reason he’s going to Spring Ridge and not Pentenville, and Laura says she’s grateful for that, but wishes she didn’t have Victor to thank for it. Spencer knows he messed up, right? and he says, yes. She says, good. His job now is to make amends. He says, okay, and she says she wants to see that; not just give lip service. He says he has to get back to work, and leaves. Esme tells Laura, don’t worry. Once Spence gets out of Spring Ridge, he’ll have plenty of people to keep him the straight and narrow. Her, Laura, Doc; one big happy family. She hugs Laura, who looks pretty surprised.

Sonny tells Carly, let’s get out of here, but she won’t budge. Sheridan says Scotty has gone far enough with his fishing expedition. He’s threatening Willow with perjury when she hasn’t been deposed, and there’s no indication that she knows anything germane to these proceedings. Judge Milford says, overruled. He wants to see where this is going. Scotty says, whenever she’s ready, and Willow looks at everyone. Nina looks like she wants the earth to swallow her up, and Willow says, a few weeks ago, she overheard Nina and Sonny having a conversation at General Hospital. Scotty asks if it was out in the open, but she says, in the chapel. He says, so it was just the two of them? and she says, yes. He asks what they said in this conversation, and she says she wasn’t there for all of it. He says, the part she was there for, did Sonny touch on the nature of his relationship with Nina? She says, he did, and Sheridan says, hearsay, but Judge Milford says, overruled, and asks Willow to be more specific. She says she overheard Sonny say, whatever happened between him and Nina in Nixon Falls has to come from him, and it will. Scotty asks, what was that? What was between the accused and the alleged victim? and Willow says, love, and Nina closes her eyes. Michael is like, what? and Carly looks at Sonny, all pissed off. I laugh.

Tomorrow, Curtis asks Stella what he doesn’t know about Marshall, Olivia wonders what if Leo needs something she can’t provide, Michael asks why Willow didn’t tell him about overhearing Nina and Sonny, and Scotty asks if Sonny considers himself the victim of a crime.

Hope Santa was good to you, or, if you’re not a Believer, you were good to yourself. Since there was no Deck – although there was a great episode of Galley Talk, reviewing the Shame Cocoon episode – can I possibly go to bed early? Nah, but I can log in another hour of Korean TV on Netflix. I’m currently obsessed with the series Black. This week looks much like last week. There are new Rules, but no new Housewives, and GH is a rerun on Friday. Of February 24, 2021. I shake my fist at the sky once again, saying, why? Why can’t they rerun a decent holiday episode on a holiday? Alas, God gives me no answer. So until tomorrow, stay safe, stay not feeling pressured to have a date on New Year’s Eve, and stay following the music.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nina meets Valentin at the MetroCourt. He talks to her in French. She tells him, whatever he said, thank you. He kisses her neck.

Psychic Sibney Gamble tells Ava, disclosures up front. She doesn’t have a crystal ball, she’s not a palmist, and doesn’t predict the future. She has experiences in clairvoyance, but can’t predict or control the images. Ava says she’s not interested in the future. Sibney says she senses the emotional energy of those who have passed. Sometimes, it’s just a feeling, and sometimes they’re as present as Ava is. Ava says Sibney has been clear on what she can’t do, but vague on what she can. Ava wonders why she should pay such a substantial fee, and Sibney says she can afford it. And she’s Ava’s best hope of making peace with Kiki.

Nina tells Valentin that she’s going to check in with Jax. He says if she must, and she tells him not to sulk. He says he’s not sulking. He has phone calls to return.

Nina sits with Jax, and asks if he got her text. He says, it’s been handled. She says, that was quick, and he tells her, time is money. He asks if she knows the woman sitting with Ava. She says, the so-called psychic? Unfortunately, yes.

Valentin calls Curtis, who’s on the deck of The Haunted Star, and asks if he has anything. Curtis says he has two things. Jax has a file on Valentin, and also one on Cassandra.

Finn dances with Epiphany, and she asks if he wants to take a break. He says he wouldn’t want to show Milo up. Epiphany says Milo is out of town, defending his title. She says, speaking of significant others, where’s Anna? He says she’s out looking for her sister, and Epiphany says good thing Anna has her to keep an eye on him. Terry sees Drew, and says she’s glad he make it. He says, it felt like a happy distraction, and she asks, how was the trip to Africa? He says, beautiful. Painful, but beautiful. He’s surprised she hasn’t talked to Kim, but Terry says she hasn’t seen much of Kim. She hasn’t been at work for a while. Kim and Julian walk in, and Kim asks where the happy couple is.

Franco knocks on the door to a room on the boat, and asks if Elizabeth is ready. People are waiting. He goes in, and sees rose petals everywhere, and champagne in a bucket. Elizabeth comes out in a robe, and tells him, welcome to the honeymoon suite. He says, technically, it’s not a honeymoon until after the reception, but she says it’s a honeymoon when they say it is. She starts taking off his clothes, saying, it’s their party. How much trouble could they get into? He asks, what could possibly go wrong? Always a bad question to ask on this show.

Kim tells Terry that it’s great to see her. She’s contemplating her return to work. There is such a thing as too much time on your hands. Terry says they’d love to have her back, and Kim says, no hospital talk. She wants to toast to Franco and Elizabeth. She and Terry go to look for them. Drew tells Julian, it looks like Kim is doing better, but Julian says he should have a closer look.

Julian takes a champagne glass out of Brad’s hand, and asks who’s home with Wiley. Brad says Lucas is there. He insisted one of them come, since Shiloh is lurking around. Julian says Shiloh is no threat, but Brad says Shiloh thinks he’s Wiley’s father. Obrecht watches on the sidelines.

In Sonny’s kitchen, Michael and Sasha make snacks. Josslyn comes in, and says she thought it was Dev. He’s a bottomless pit. Michael says they’re babysitting Avery. Josslyn says she could have done that, but Michael says they thought she might have something better to do. She’s in the clear. She can go hang out with Cameron and Trina.

Cameron and Trina walk into the reception. He tells Trina, it’s not too late to back out, but she says she’s not going anywhere until she has some cake. He says he doesn’t really want her to. She knows he’s not looking forward to this, but said she’d have his back, so she will.

Laura tells Doc that Cameron showed up with a date. It’s a step up from him not wanting to be there. Doc knows how Cameron feels, but Laura says he wouldn’t have been invited if they didn’t want him there. He can’t hole up, and expect to get back to normal. He says he’s not sure he’s ready to reenter their social scene, and Laura suggests they stay for one toast. She tells him, besides, take a look around. No one is paying attention to them. He says she’s right. They’re probably wondering what to make of that. She looks, and sees Bobbie come in, accompanied by Scotty on his scooter.

Valentin says, so Jax has Intel on Cassandra, and asks Curtis if it’s recent or background. Stella asks if Curtis is coming, or does she have to make her own entrance? He says, one minute, and Valentin asks where he is. Curtis says, in the doghouse. He’s at Franco and Elizabeth’s reception. They’ll speak later. Curtis goes in with Stella.

Ava tells Sibney not to toy with her. She came for real answers, not superficial mumbo jumbo. Sibney says she doesn’t do mumbo jumbo. That’s why she doesn’t work for free. She’s been in contact with Connie Falconari. Ava says she came to talk about Kiki, and Sibney says, she’s not telling Sonny anything. You don’t have to shoot me. That was the last thing Connie said before Ava pulled the trigger. Ava asks how she knows, and she says, it’s simple. Connie told her. Ava says, that’s impossible, and Sibney says if she wants the impossible, she’ll give it to Ava, but her fee is non-negotiable.

Valentin approaches Jax’s table. He says he hopes he’s not interrupting, but they have an engagement. Jax asks if they’re going to the reception, and Valentin says Elizabeth is an old friend. Nina adds that Franco is her ex, and Jax is impressed that they’re cordial.

Ava tells Sibney that she paid the fee for the initial consultation. Could they focus on her daughter? SIbney says Kiki isn’t the only spirit in Ava’s orbit. As Nina and Valentin walk past, Nina stops and asks if Sibney is still in contact with the great beyond. She tells Ava that Nina’s mother was her best client. Nina says, she’s a fraud, and tells Ava, steer clear. Sibney says, Madeline was a demanding client. She still is. She has a message from her. Nina says, yeah, right, but Sibney says, it’s not for her. She tells Valentin, next time, use tweezers. Valentin flashes back to standing over Madeline’s coffin, saying, maybe in death, she can give Nina the greatest gift of all. Ava asks what the hell that means, and Nina says, exactly. They move on, and Ava says she doesn’t want to communicate with Madeline or Connie. She wants to reach her daughter.

Franco and Elizabeth are in bed, when there’s a knock on the door. Franco tells her, stay quiet, and they’ll go away. Cameron asks if they’re almost ready.

Finn asks Curtis how Jordan is, and Curtis says, improving by the day. Stella says she claims she’s stagnating, and Epiphany asks Stella if she’s going to find her long lost mystery relative. Stella says she went to a website that claimed she had a relative living nearby. Curtis asks if she doesn’t want to know more, but she says, you never know who you’re letting into your life. She doesn’t want some drunk. Curtis says they’d be related to him too; maybe he should get tested. Stella says, sure; spread his DNA along. Finn says, no offense to Chase, but he has enough problems with the family he knows.

Scotty says, so they invited Laura, and Bobbie says, of course (🍷). They join Laura and Doc, and Scotty says he thought Laura had split with Doc. Doc asks Bobbie if she’s met the real Scotty, and she says she’s known him for a long time. Laura says, let’s not do this, and Scotty tells them, enjoy the evening, before scooting off. Doc says, nice scooter Scotty. I’ll bet they drew straws for who got to say that.

Felix comes in, and an obviously drunk Obrecht hugs him. She asks if he’s there alone; where’s Donny? He says they broke up, and she asks if he’s still carrying a torch for Dr. Jones. He says, Lucas is married now, but she tells him, don’t give up. That marriage is not built to last.

Julian tells Brad, all Shiloh can do is speculate. He can’t prove anything. Brad says he can ask a judge for a DNA test, and they know what the results will say. Julian says, it doesn’t matter; he has no proof, and no one who knows will say anything. He tells Brad, relax, get his head on straight, and he’ll be fine. Bobbie sees them, and says Brad looks like he could use some air. She suggests he take a walk while she talks to Julian.

Drew asks Kim how she’s holding up, and she says she’s happy for Elizabeth and Franco. He is too, but he’s concerned about Kim. She doesn’t know what’s worse; not getting what you want, or being pitied for wanting it in the first place. She knows it was crazy, but Drew says it’s not. Kim says she wanted another family with him when they never had one in the first place. He says they are family; her, him, and Oscar. Oscar might be gone, but the bond is forever. Kim says if it’s not crazy, is wanting a family with him still possible?

Josslyn asks what movie Michael and Sasha are going to watch, and Sasha says they haven’t decided. Does she want to pick? Josslyn asks if they mind if she stays, and Michael suggests inviting Dev. Josslyn seems reluctant, and he says, or she could take him to hang out with Cameron and Trina. She says Cameron is busy at his mom and Franco’s reception. He wanted her to go with him to run interference. Sasha asks if he doesn’t like Franco, and Josslyn says, no; he’s just weird about it. Sasha says it sounds like she could help. Why didn’t she go? Josslyn says she didn’t want to make a hard night harder. People mean well, but when she’s around… Sasha says people are looking at her, wondering how she is, and Josslyn says, yeah. Sasha hates to break it to her, but they’re doing right now.

Stella tells Curtis that she’s not interested in seeing what relative is a match. She’s going to see what’s keeping the party from being started. Nina asks Curtis what she missed, and he says his auntie being stubborn. Nina sees Obrecht approach Finn, and thinks she should mount a rescue.

Curtis tells Valentin that he’s going to dig in and do more research before he gets into Jax’s office again. What does Valentin know about Cassandra? Valentin says he and Cassandra had a limited interaction before he fell in love with Nina. Curtis wonders if Finn can help. He and Anna got mixed up with her. Maybe he knows if she’s connected to Jax. Jax walks in, and he and Valentin nod politely at each other.

Obrecht says Finn’s fiancé vanished again? He says, someone hasn’t vanished if you know where they are. She says, it must be a strain on the relationship when one party refuses to settle down. Nina joins them, and says she’s been so busy, she feels like she’s been neglecting her aunt. She says she wants to catch up on Obrecht’s column, and leads her away.

Drew tells Kim that they can’t have another kid right now. She says she didn’t intend to put him on the spot again. He says, yearning for a child isn’t something you can rush, and thinks she should take some time. She wanders off.

Bobbie asks if she needs to remind Julian about the last time they talked. He asks if he should duck now or later, and she asks him if he’s inserting himself into Lucas and Brad’s lives again. He says he’ll always be a part of their lives, and if they need help, he’s going to give it to him. She wonders what good his help is, and suggests he not help anyone ever. Scotty calls her over.

Ava says she’d like to talk to her daughter now, and Sibney says, here? In the middle of the restaurant? It’s not exactly conducive to contacting the departed. Ava asks if there’s another place that’s more conducive, and if there’s an extra charge. Sibney says, energy leaves a mark, and a spirit’s energy leaves a huge discharge if there’s a violent death. Ava asks if she wants to visit where Kiki was killed, and Sibney asks if that’s possible. Ava says, the apartment has been sold, but then the police were never sure where exactly it was she died. Sibney asks if there’s an alternative location, and Ava says, one.

Terry thanks everyone for coming, and supporting her oldest and truest friend and her handsome groom. They’ve been waiting, and the wait is over. It’s her pleasure to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin; Franco and Elizabeth. The guests applaud. Franco tells Elizabeth, make ‘em laugh, make ‘em cry, make ‘em wait. The music plays, and he dips her on the dance floor.

Elizabeth thanks everyone for helping them celebrate. They’re not big on formalities or speeches, but they’re incredibly happy, and everyone’s presence made the moment even more perfect. Franco says it’s been a long, strange trip getting there, and he owes them a huge debt. He thanks everyone for coming, and publicly wants to thank his wife for loving him, and allowing him to love her, and changing everything. He loves her. He asks where the boys are, and thanks them. He’s happy to be around them, and thanks them for coming. Cameron says they’ll be right back. Elizabeth thanks her husband for completing her family, and for his patience, humor, and perseverance. Franco says he has a lot to be grateful for and to celebrate. Drew toasts to Elizabeth and Franco.

Cameron, Jake, and Aiden come back in. Cameron says they’ve been working on; a tribute to their mom and dad. He hopes they don’t mind, and Elizabeth says, of course (🍷) we don’t. Cameron plays the guitar and sings, while Aiden accompanies him on the tambourine, and Jake on the rhythm shaker. I think it’s an original song, since I can’t find anything via the lyrics. Trina films them, and Elizabeth wipes a tear from her cheek. Franco holds out his hand, and he and Elizabeth dance. We see everyone dance, as the song continues. Jax watches Nina and Valentin. The cake is cut. Elizabeth throws the bouquet, and Terry catches it. Family photos are taken.

Cameron congratulates Elizabeth and Franco, and shakes Franco’s hand. Franco compliments the boys. Laura says, two happy people, and Doc says he’s happy he and Laura are still together. She says, her too, and they kiss.

Michael gives Josslyn a bowl of loaded ice cream, but she’s not sure if she’s up to tackling it. She didn’t help Cameron, and he’s been there for her. Sasha is sure Cameron understands. What she’s going through is something real, but she’ll get back out there. Josslyn says she’ll have to sometime. She might as well help a friend. Michael asks if that means she’s not staying for the movie. Josslyn says they’re on their own, and pushes the bowl of ice cream toward him, telling them, good luck. Michael says, it has to be done, and asks Sasha if she wants some, but she says she’ll stick with popcorn.

Felix asks Brad how it going with the baby, and Brad says, good. Felix says when he didn’t see Lucas, he thought the baby was sick or something. Brad says, or something? Like what? He starts to tell Brad what Obrecht said, but then says she’s hitting the skids. It sounded like she had the inside track, but she’s drinking, and probably made it up. Forget he said anything.

Brad asks to talk to Julian, and Kim goes to get a drink.

Jax introduces himself to Finn, saying he’s a good friend of Robin’s, and she wanted him to tell Finn hi. He thinks she believes Finn is lonely because her mom is away. Nina introduces him to Obrecht, saying she insisted on meeting him. Obrecht says the pleasure is all hers, and asks if he’s heard from his brother. He says he hasn’t, and she says Jax has a reputation for honesty, so she feels like she should believe him. On the other hand, he also has a reputation of protecting his brother, which leads her to believe he’s lying. He asks how she knows Jerry, and she says they go way back. Everyone who’s worked for Helena Cassadine meets at some point.

Ava arrives, and introduces Sibney to Elizabeth. She tells Elizabeth, hold on to this one, and Elizabeth says she will. She tells Finn that he’s missing his fiancé, but soon, he’ll have more women than he can handle. Ava tells him, sorry; have a nice night, pushing Sibney along. She tells Sibney to stop giving away free readings on her retainer. Sibney says she can’t help the flashes. They come when they want to.

Valentin wonders if it’s wise, leaving Obrecht alone with Jax, and Nina says, he’s a big boy. He can handle himself. She can’t believe Ava brought that charlatan there. She exploits vulnerable people. She tells Valentin not to believe her comment. Valentin tells Nina not to listen to Obrecht. Nina knows how outrageous Obrecht is, and now she’s three sheets to the wind.

Franco drags Obrecht away, and says she’s really throwing them back. She says she’s lonely. She wants someone to come home to; someone to confide her secrets to. He says, she has secrets? She says she’s had secrets all her life, like the truth about Nathan. She hates the pain she visited on him. Perhaps he’d have been better off knowing the truth. Poor Brad, Lucas, and Wiley… and his real father. Someone watches them.

Ava and Sibney go to the room where Kiki’s body was found. Sibney says Kiki was still alive when she was brought there. She was mortally wounded, and this is where her soul left her body. Ava asks if she’s there. Can Sibney feel her daughter? Sibney tells her, be quiet. Kiki is there. The lights go out.

The lights are out everywhere, and Drew says, that’s crazy. He asks if Kim is okay, and she says, yeah. She was looking for Julian. She left him with Brad. She says she saw a fuse box, and he follows her. Nina asks Curtis if he noticed where Valentin went.

Obrecht goes out on deck, drink in one hand, shoes in the other. Someone watches her. She walks to the edge, and breathes in the air. Suddenly, someone pushes her over the side.

Drew finds the fuse box. He’s about to flip the switch, says, what the hell? and slumps to the ground. Kim turns on the lights. She checks Drew out, and looks at a syringe in her hand.

Elizabeth says, oh my God. Everyone looks as Rebecca Budig Hayden comes in.

Tomorrow, Maxie tells Peter that she’s not taking no for an answer, Ava tells * that they’re not going anywhere until her daughter is brought back, and Nina asks where Valentin was.

Below Deck Mediterranean

When we last left, there was quite a mess on deck, with the anchor chains in a tangle. Daniel Sheree

The captain says, holy sh*t. She points out the whole thing that the chain wraps around is bent. Captain Sandy radios João, and says they have a situation. Jack is glad he isn’t the one who caused it. In Hannah’s interview, she says they’ve lost Anastasia and Travis to the galley, and she’s in the cabins. It’s like opposite day for grown-ups. The captain says, it’s a huge problem. In her interview, she wonders what’s going through Colin’s brain. It his second season, and he should know it by now.

Ashley shoots more of her music video. Captain Sandy watches as João and Colin fix the anchor mess.  In his interview João says, it’s a 500kg anchor and 500kg chain. If it picks up too much speed, you could lose a leg. He ought to know after getting tangled up in the lines last season.

Anastasia asks if Aesha wants breakfast, and Aesha says Anastasia makes her fanny tingle. The anchor is in the pocket, and Colin heads out in the tender. In his interview, he says he’s off to a fantastic day. The engineer works on the anchor thing to straighten it out. In João’s interview, he says they drove four meters and moved so they could have a good background for a pop singer. It’s ridiculous. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says, it’s every captain’s nightmare, and exactly what she has. She won’t allow the anchors to beat her. She hates the effing anchors. She’s over it. The crew hears her saying all this on the radio.

The captain tells the deckhands, lock it down. Travis sits on the galley floor, trying to get Wi-Fi. Hannah asks if he wants to connect to her hotspot. In her interview, she thinks Travis is adorable, but she’s not dating someone in the crew. It was exhausting last year. We flash back to that, and she says she’s not doing it again. João tells the captain, these anchors are a nightmare; they’re too small. Captain Sandy says, that’s a fact.

Videographer Cassandra films Ashley on some kind of water bike. The slide is set up. Jack has a smoke while hiding from work. João notices the slide isn’t tied down properly. Jack says he tied it, but João says he only did one side. It won’t matter if it comes off. Anastasia makes one pound burgers. Jack takes a break in his bunk. João looks at his watch, probably calculating how long Jack has pretended to work, and takes the cover off the jacuzzi. Cassandra asks if someone can help her, and Colin volunteers. Hannah’s feet are killing her. In Colin’s interview, he says he feels like Ashley’s fluffer, using the reflecting mirror. The producer asks if he knows what that is, and he thinks it’s someone who preps an actor. They explain that it’s to prepare someone for porn, and he says he thought it was a general term in the movie business. He has to stop saying it. Jack does a backflip off the boat. He tells João, stop being moody. João asks when that happened, and Jack says when João criticized him about only tying one side of the slide. João says Jack is an engineer. He should know if he only ties one side, it’s not tied. In João’s interview, he says, if only Jack worked as much as he talks. His mouth works overtime, and he’s always bitching.

Colin wonders what the chances are of Jack taking work seriously. João tells him if there’s anything wrong, it will be on him, not Jack. In the captain’s interview, she says if possible, when she hires a chef, she has them prepare a meal for her, but when she doesn’t have that luxury, she has to trust what they say. Cassandra confers with Hannah about the crew doing a dance at Ashley’s wrap party. She has hats and T-shirts for them to go with it. Travis says he’s losing his sh*t; he’s so tired. It’s time for lunch, and Travis says he likes working in the galley, but it’s not his only job. He has to work on deck as well. Mmm… Some kind of giant burgers are plated. In her interview, Anastasia says her biggest fear is failing, and admits the one who puts the biggest pressure on her is herself. Ashley takes a billion photos for social media.

Hannah radios Jack, asking if he knows the food in the bosun’s locker, but Jack says he doesn’t remember what’s there. He tells the other guys, when he doesn’t want to help, he just says he doesn’t remember. In his interview, he says, you only have one life. You might as well push it, and see what you can get away with. Geez. Before I just thought he was lazy. Now I think he’s a total d-bag. Anastasia is making a unicorn cake. She says, it’s the type of cake people write songs about. Is it the one left out in the rain? The guests use the slide. Hannah tells the crew about the coordinated dance, saying João is the lead. Aesha thinks it’s cool.

Anastasia thinks her butter cream icing is not that good, not great, and finally, too sweet. It’s like Goldilocks icing. She calls her mom. In her interview, she says her mom was the head pastry chef for the President of Georgia, and works in five-star hotels. Her mom tells her to add butter. Making mental note about that. Cassandra discusses the dance with Hannah. Aesha thinks the cake looks amazing. Hannah calls for the crew to practice the dance.

On deck, Cassandra shows them choreography to one of Ashley’s songs. Aesha had fourteen years of dance; modern jazz, and ballet, which she found too slow and boring.  Colin makes some corrections as far as rhythm goes, and Cassandra has him come to the front and help. In his interview, he says he’s got to show off his skills. Anastasia chops onions, making me think of the no onion guy a few seasons ago. In Anastasia’s interview, she says, so far, the guests love the food. She wants to make sure their last meal leaves a good impression. The guests are seated. Aesha cleans the cabins.

Hannah radios for help running plates, but no one responds. The captain goes to the galley. She’s getting mad. They’re short staffed, and the crew has to step it up. She says, whoever’s on deck get in the galleynow – but she’s the one who ends up helping. Cauliflower bisque with garlic croutons sounds so good. Travis and Jack talk about the girls. Jack says Hannah’s boobs want out. You’re not supposed to cage a free bird. Colin clears the plates, and Daniel says it’s the best cauliflower he’s ever had, making me want it more. In Anastasia’s interview, she says she’s impressing the guests and herself. She doesn’t think she knew how good she was. Filet mignon, baby carrots, shallot sauce, salmon. I’m dying. Hannah tells Anastasia the guests are loving it, and asks the guys to change into the T-shirts.

She calls the crew into the main salon. She tells them that they’ll be snug while they’re performing; the space is kind of small. They go upstairs. Ashley freaks out. Anastasia brings up the cake, saying it’s their wrap party surprise. Even Captain Sandy joins in the dance. Colin has no idea what these dances are, but Ashley loves them. She hugs everybody. These are much nicer guests than they usually get. Ashley thinks everything is so cool, and the unicorn cake is the cutest thing ever. Anastasia is happy that they’re happy. In her interview, Anastasia says, it feels good that Ashley feels special. To be part of a crew who made it special, makes it worth it – and the money. Ashley says it’s the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for her. In the galley, Captain Sandy tells Anastasia, this is her calling. Anastasia says she needs better knife skills. In the captain’s interview, she says to witness a third stew perform like this, she’s blown away. She’s never seen anything like it in her career. Aesha pretends to be bummed, and asks what her parents gave her. Anastasia says, sex jokes?

The captain tells the guys, it’s all fun and games until it’s time to go back to work. Anastasia goes to bed. Jack shoves cake in his mouth. Most of the crew is done, but Hannah is still cleaning up at 1 am. It looks so tedious. In her interview, she says they’re a person down in interior, and they feel it. There’s no way they can survive the season. Anastasia is a Band-Aid to the problem, and they can’t go on like this.

Last day of charter. The captain tells João that they’re hauling anchor at nine. Travis says he’s so effing tired. He’s exhausted, and sick of doing this sh*t. He asks for an hour, and João is cool with that. Travis can’t wait until he’s not working at 140%. Anchor is hauled, using a couple of guys this time. A breakfast buffet is laid out. Sheree loves how they all help out (like they had a choice, but she doesn’t know that). She adds that Anastasia is amazing. On deck, Anastasia tells Jack that she doesn’t get to go outside as chef. He asks how she’s going to feel when someone else is running the show, and she says she’ll miss it. The captain radios the crew to prepare for docking. Jack and Travis call each other stud muffin. Hannah can’t find her epaulets. João tells her just go out the way she’s dressed, and she has a lightbulb moment. She asks Captain Sandy what she thinks about them wearing their Ashley T-Shirts to say goodbye to the guests. Captain Sandy loves the idea. They dock, and the captain says, well done.

Hannah finds her epaulet shirt, and jokingly says, okay, everyone, change back. The crew lines up. The guests loved their time on board, and Daniel says, the chef killed it. Daniel thanks everyone, saying they were sincere and honest, and gives the captain an envelope, saying it’s a nice chunk for them. Captain Sandy says they’ll turn the boat around, and then have the tip meeting. I think one thing the crew didn’t really grasp was that the chef was responsible for a big part of that tip. The crew meets in the main salon.

Captain Sandy tells Colin to move a fender next time he’s hauling anchor. She tells him that he’s not in trouble, but if he does it again, it’s his paycheck. She says she’s kidding, but in her interview, says, sort of. I like her more each season. She loves how the team came together, and says, Anastasia is definitely a chef, and did an amazing job. It’s the biggest tip they’ve ever gotten on the Med – $27K or $2330 each. She reminds them that they are one crew member down. Anastasia wants to make it rain on herself. Hannah says they worked hard. They don’t need a chef.

The captain calls Anastasia to the bridge. She says she asked Anastasia to be the chef, and she stepped in. When she saw what Anastasia was doing, she thought it was phenomenal. They got the biggest tip ever, and the food had something to do with it. There’s no question in her mind; Anastasia can do this. She soars as a chef. She asks if Anastasia wants to remain a chef, or go back to being third stew. I’m almost crying;, this is so cool and exciting.

Anastasia says she wants to continue, and Captain Sandy is glad she said that. It’s the right answer for her. In her interview, the captain says she’s going to stick with Anastasia. She trusts her. She’s witnessed what Anastasia can do, and she has the right attitude. Why would she not want to propel someone from third stew to galley, and see their potential? She tells Anastasia to own the galley. She’s not a third stew anymore; she’s a chef. In Anastasia’s interview, she says, when they needed someone who knew how to cook, it happened to be her, now she’s the effing chef. Hannah marvels over getting the best tip ever. The captain calls an agency, and says she’s looking for a third strew. Hannah tells the others that she’s never worked with a crew who came together like they did. Captain Sandy calls Hannah to the bridge.

The captain tells Hannah, good news. She thinks so anyway. Anastasia is going to be chef, but there’s a third stew ready who has experience. Travis is still going to help out in the galley, and they’ll be fine. In Hannah’s interview, she doesn’t think Anastasia should be chef. Not because she’s not good, but she’s not experienced. It’s not cadet camp, where you learn on the job. Captain Sandy announces that Anastasia is now chef, and Travis will still be working in the galley. Travis says, f**k me, and João wants his deckhand back. In his interview, he says he only has one left, along with one who hardly works. So there are two of them willing and able. Anastasia thought with her ego when she took the position. I’m not sure what’s wrong with her taking the opportunity she was given, but okay. Hannah says it’s the first time she’s had a strong team, and she wants to keep it, because at the end of the day, it’s all about her. She laughs, but I think she’s only half-joking. Captain Sandy says she’s going into town.

The girls get their bathing suits on, and lie on the sun deck. Hannah says she was just wired the provision list. In her interview, Anastasia says she knows she has a big responsibility. She’d be lying if she said she’s 100% confident, but she’s gotta fake it til she makes it. She’s got to pretend she has the biggest balls on the boat. Colin tells Jack that his services are needed on the bow. Jack sees the girls, and says he was sent up to help them clean. He gets a tray of drinks for them, leaving his radio on one of the chairs in the bar. João tries to get ahold of him, asking if he wants to get the work done, or stay until eight. João tells Colin that he bets Jack has no radio, and Colin suggests dangling a butt in front of him to get him moving. João says he could dangle anything but work. In João’s interview, he says they need to pick up more slack, not be given extra slack. He’s never dealt with someone who doesn’t want to work. Jack carries the tray out in his underwear, and Hannah says what he lacks in work ethic, he makes up for in humor.

Jack gets a beer, and João asks what he’s doing. They still have to work, and they’re going to have issues. Jack asks when they’re going to be done, and João tells him, just work until they’re finished. Top to bottom; accomplish what they can, but it’s not up to Jack to decide when they’re finished. Why is it difficult? In his interview, João says, Jack has a beer in his hand, and he’s putting the hose away. He doesn’t want to learn. He’s here for the money and good time, and it’s frustrating. João says he can be a good leader for people who want to be led. Jack tells Hannah that work gets in the way of his life. In Jack’s interview, he says he’s obviously crossed the line, so he’s not going to keep winding João up.

Travis and Jack have a beer and a smoke. Jack tells Travis that João should just say what needs to be done, and he’ll do it. Travis suggests writing a list. In Travis’s interview, he says he’ll back Jack until he dies. He can be lazy, but it’s mainly about how you speak to him. If you talk down to him, he’s like, screw you. Travis understands because he’s the same way. Jack says he’s not stupid just because he’s not passionate about washing a boat. He just wants to have a good time tonight.

Anastasia is excited. She needs to blow off steam. She’s an effing chef, and they effing drink. The crew goes into Cannes.

So, in France, is a French bulldog just a bulldog? The drinking commences. João toasts to one less crew member sharing the tip. Anastasia tells Colin that she thinks people don’t understand. They think she just cooks, but 50% of the charter is what she puts on the plate. It takes a lot of planning, and she’s in the galley all day long by herself; it’s tough. She felt like she couldn’t say no, but João says if she didn’t want to do it, she should have said so. She’s employed to be a third stew, and she’s great at it. She’s great as a chef too, but is she a seven-star chef? Is she a Michelin chef? No. In her interview, Anastasia says, read my face. Tell me I’m doing great. He says, she doesn’t have to accept what she doesn’t want to. Anastasia gets up, and walks away from the table, and João wonders how being honest screws him over. She has a say in what she’s doing.

Next time, the new stew arrives, João calls Aesha whorish, Jack flirts with Aesha, and Jackie Siegal from Queen of Versailles is the primary.
