General Hospital

🥢 Weekday Bites…

Monday:

Tracy told the unfamiliar woman that her timing was terrible, and it was private property. The woman said she was there to pay her respects to her sister. Her name was Veronica Bard, but Tracy could call her Ronnie.

Spinelli and Felicia were at Bobbie’s with James, who seemed quiet. Felicia asked him to look at the desserts, and he went to the counter. Spinelli said James wasn’t okay, and Felicia said he missed his mom. Spinelli said, now they were about to upend his life all over again.

Obrecht met Nina at the hospital, when Britt came out of the elevator asking, what was the big emergency? Was Nina trying to get her fired? Nina said she was trying to arrange a family reunion.

Willow asked how Nathan was feeling, and he said, great. They introduced themselves and she said she was his niece.

Anna looked over the suspect list, when her phone rang. She said, well, that is a turn of events. She’d follow up.

Ric woke up, and Ava said he seemed restless. She had just the thing for that.

Kristina and Molly went to see Michael, and gave him their condolences, and he introduced them to a friend of his, Jacinda.

Obrecht said she wasn’t interested in a reconciliation, and Britt said she wasn’t either, but Nina said, just stop. Something incredible happened. Whatever they were going through, they’d need each other to get through this. Nathan was alive.

Willow said it was a huge shock finding out Nina was her mother, and Nathan said finding out who his parents were turned his world upside down. She told him about Obrecht volunteering for her bone marrow transplant, and he said family was important. She said they were family, and he said he liked it. A new niece and a son he never met.

Spinelli wondered how they were going to tell James that his father wasn’t dead, but there in Port Charles, and Felicia said they’d done a DNA test and the man in the bed was Nathan. James had a right to know his father was alive. Spinelli asked if his mother shouldn’t be there to guide him, and she said they both wished Maxie could be there, but she wasn’t. So they had to step up and be there for James together. Maxie would want James to know the truth.

Ava said they couldn’t have Ric waking up. It would go easier if he just took another nice long nap. Ric said, no more drugs. Let him go. She said she promised she would, just not today. Open his mouth. She put a pill in his mouth, gave him some water, and said, swallow it. That’s a good boy.

Michael said Jacinda stopped by to offer her condolences, and Jacinda said she lost her grandmother not long ago. She wanted to make sure Michael was holding up okay. Did Kristina run Charlie’s? Kristina said it was her place, and Jacinda said she was sorry about the fire. Kristina said it would be up and running soon, and Molly asked how Jacinda and Michael knew each other. Jacinda said they’d crossed paths and hit it off, and Kristina asked if she could borrow Michael for a second. She and Michael went to the foyer.

Tracy said she’d had Monica investigated before she married Alan and knew about Ronnie. Ronnie asked if Monica never mentioned her, and Tracy said, not a peep. Obviously, Monica didn’t want Ronnie in her life, so why was she popping up now that Monica was dead? Ronnie asked if Tracy always greeted visitors with hostility, and Tracy said just the uninvited ones that showed up at the family crypt. Monica didn’t want Ronnie in her life. Ronnie said they were estranged and had led very different lives, but Tracy was wrong about how things stood between her and her sister. Everything had changed well before Monica died.

Obrecht asked if Nina was certain, and Nina said she was afraid to believe it, but they’d done a DNA test, and she’d spoken to him. Obrecht’s son and Britt’s brother was alive. Obrecht said she needed to see her son, and Nina said she’d take them to him. They followed her to Nathan’s room and Willow opened the door.

Kristina asked if Michael and Jacinda were on a date, but Michael said, Jacinda came to offer her condolences. Kristina asked if he knew Jacinda was the escort with Drew the night of his ketamine bender, and he said, it was one night and just business. Jacinda was a friend. Kristina said he might be her next mark, but he said he was good. She said she was just looking out for him.

Jacinda asked what Molly did, and Molly said she was a prosecutor, an ADA. Were she and Michael dating? Jacinda said they were getting to know each other, when Kristina came back with Michael and said they should head out. In the foyer, Kristina said she wanted a full recap of Tracy throwing Drew out of the memorial, and Michael said he’d make sure she got it. Tracy went full-on Tracy. Kristina and Molly left, and Jacinda told Michael that she wasn’t sure they bought it.

Tracy wondered how Ronnie and Monica conveniently reunited without her knowledge, and Ronnie said Monica wrote her a letter. No one was more surprised than she was. Monica had never reached out, even though she’d been easy to find. She assumed Monica wasn’t interested, but thought has we grew older, we faced mortality and regrets loomed large. Tracy said she assumed Ronnie wrote back, and Ronnie said, of course (🍷). They’d written back and forth for the past year or so, Tracy wanted to see proof. She didn’t know Ronnie, but knew Monica’s handwriting anywhere. She also knew that Ronnie hadn’t darkened Monica’s doorstep in over 50 years, but when she got wind of the fact Monica died, she came circling like a vulture. Why was she really there?

James came back and asked if something happened to his mom, but Felicia said, absolutely not. She talked to his mom’s doctors every day and they were taking excellent care of her. James asked, what’s wrong? and Spinelli said they had good news. There had been a strange mistake, and his dad was alive. James said, he wasn’t. He was an angel who lived in heaven.

Obrecht said, my son. It was really him. She hugged Nathan and cried. Britt looked stunned.

Ava said Ric was missing out on a lot of billable hours. Drew had been shot, and half the town was being investigated. Ric asked if Drew was alive, and Ava said, yeah, and Willow was a prime suspect. He said she had to stop this, and she told him that she said she would, just not right now. It didn’t have to be this way. They’d had a good thing going and were cut from the same cloth. She guessed the heart wanted what the heart wanted, and he wanted Elizabeth, the fairest maiden in all of Port Charles. It allowed Kristina to play him for a fool, but the reason he was here was because he got greedy. He said, so did she, but she said she deserved every penny. In ten days, all the money he stole would be back in the Cassadine estate, minus her divorce settlement of course (🍷). Cheer up. By the time he could form a coherent thought again, it would all be over. Sleep tight. She went back upstairs.

Ronnie said she could see Tracy was grieving. That’s why she was trying to be polite. But she’d stepped over a line no decent person would cross. Tracy said Ronnie showed up unannounced and uninvited to a private memorial, probably to ask for a handout. Ronnie said she didn’t want a thing from Tracy or her sister. She got along just fine. She read that Monica died and knew the funeral was private, so she came there instead to pay her respects. Tracy said the funeral was for select invitees, close family and friends and respected colleagues, of which Ronnie was none. Whatever she came for, she wasn’t going to get, so she could sneak out the way she snuck in. Ronnie said she didn’t sneak. The gate was open. Tracy said she’d have it fixed, and Ronnie said, Monica wrote a lot about her family – Jason, Michael, Michael’s children, and her great-grandchildren. She’d like to meet them and give her condolences to the family. Tracy said the family was nothing to her and she was nothing to them.

Obrecht said her son had been restored to her. Where had he been? Nathan said he didn’t know. The last thing he remembered was being shot by Faison. She said he was found on the road in a car crash. Was he trying to escape someone? He said he really didn’t know. He did know he and Maxie had a son and he wanted to meet James as soon as possible.

Spinelli said they did believe James’s father was in heaven, but it turned out they were wrong. He was in Port Charles. Felicia said she’d seen him and spoken to him. He was in GH. James asked if he was hurt, and she said, no. He was in an accident, but he was okay. He didn’t remember where he’d been. James asked if his father remembered him, but Felicia said they’d never actually met. James was born after he went away. James said he didn’t know his father except for what his mom told him and pictures, and Spinelli said he knew it was a lot to find out. It was for them too, but they were all in this together. If James wasn’t ready, he didn’t have to meet his father until he wanted to.

Alexis came home and asked Ava, how’s Ric? Ava said she’d just given him a sedative and asked how it went with Anna. Alexis said the appointment was canceled. They didn’t reschedule, so she was taking it as a win – for now. Ava asked if she thought she was in the clear, and Alexis said she was cautiously optimistic. They couldn’t let the PCPD know what was in the basement. Ava said they just had to endure 10 more days, and the money Ric stole would be back where it belonged, and they could wash their hands of each other permanently.

Ric spit out the pill and hid it under the mattress. He struggled with the handcuffs.

Anna said she had something of interest to Turner, and Turner asked how questioning Alexis went. Anna said she wasn’t ruling Alexis out, but the evidence was pointing elsewhere, and Turner said, Sonny? Anna said, no. The strike marks on the bullet matched one from an earlier crime and the gun was registered to a highly unlikely suspect – a dead man, namely Edward Quartermaine.

Ronnie said Tracy was making assumptions about her character when Tracy didn’t know her, and Tracy said she didn’t want to know her. Ronnie said maybe Tracy didn’t know Monica as well as she thought, and Tracy said Monica never once mentioned Ronnie’s name in the 45 years she knew her. Monica didn’t want anything to do with Ronnie, and she intended to honor that and follow suit. Ronnie said she and Monica had been separated as children and raised in the foster care system, and Tracy said she knew Monica’s foster mother. Ronnie said she and Monica were estranged by circumstance, not by choice. They didn’t grow up as sisters and when she found Monica again, Monica was already a young woman, married to her first husband, and in the middle of her medical internship. She was building a life that was a far cry from the past they’d shared, and Monica wanted nothing to do with her. She took it hard and said things she regretted. So did Monica. Life took people in different directions, and although her life had different trappings than Monica’s, she was proud of it. She never asked or needed anything from her sister. Tracy said it was a compelling story, but she didn’t believe a word of it.

Alexis told Ava that the situation with Drew had been enlightening. His behavior was so extreme, he pushed someone else to extremes and got shot. Ava and Kristina had gone to extremes with Ric because of their eye for an eye vendetta. It was going to end. The money would be put back, and they’d push the reset button, putting it in the past for all of them. Ava said she was willing, and it seemed like Alexis and Kristina were willing, but one person might not be so amenable – Ric. Alexis said he had no choice. If they went down, he went down. She knew Ric. He’d get upset, lick his wounds, and get over it. It would be fine. Ava said everybody had a limit to how far they were willing to be pushed, and she left.

Anna said the gun was from an entire collection registered to the Quartermaine address, and Turner said, where a suspect lived – Michael. Anna said, Tracy lived there and was discovered first on the scene. She despised Drew, but if she’d wanted him dead, he’d probably be dead. Turner said Drew destroyed Michael’s family and was working to take away his children. Michael had access and plenty of motive. Anna said, just because it could happen didn’t mean it did. Had Turner ruled anyone out? Turner said Carly had an alibi – Jack – but Anna said Jack would lie for Carly in a heartbeat. Turner said Carly once shot a man point blank in court, and Anna said Carly would definitely kill to protect her children. Turner said they couldn’t rule out Curtis, and Anna said he and Drew had been at each other’s throats for almost a year and Curtis held Drew completely responsible for his aunt’s arrest. Turner said, maybe he’d reached his breaking point, and Anna said he’d been a cop and could stage a scene and cover his tracks. Turner said, what about Nina and Willow? and Anna said they had a complicated relationship. They were both sleeping with Drew at the same time (ew!). Turner said, they might both want revenge and were in on it together.

Nina thanked Willow for treating Nathan. She couldn’t believe Liesl had her son back. Maybe she and Willow could call a truce. Willow said that wasn’t going to happen. She was happy Nina had her brother back, but it changed nothing. Nina lied to her and manipulated her. She didn’t want anything to do with Nina. Nina said Willow could hate her all she wanted, but in reality, they needed each other. They were each other’s alibi.

Molly told Kristina that Jacinda was an escort and Michal’s alibi. It had been a set-up.

Jacinda said she wasn’t sure how much it shored up Michael’s alibi, but it was worth a try. She really was sorry for his loss. He thanked her and said he appreciated her help. She said, it was calculated. Most people would be too caught up mourning to think about it. Would his grandmother have approved? He said he hoped so.

Ronnie said she didn’t come to Port Charles to convince anyone of anything. She came to honor her sister and wished they’d reconnected sooner. Tracy said Monica Bard may have been Ronnie’s sister, but the little girl she remembered became Dr. Monica Quartermaine, a skilled surgeon and a pillar of the community. She was too busy helping others to bother to look back. There was no room for Ronnie in the future of Monica’s family.

Willow said she didn’t need Nina, but Nina needed her. Nina didn’t have an alibi and had a history of violence. Drew used her for sex, then threw her away. It was a damn good reason to shoot someone. Nina said, if it came to that, she hoped that’s what the police believed, because Drew was instrumental in Willow losing her children. It was a damn good reason to shoot someone too.

Nathan said, tell him about his son, and Obrecht said James was magnificent, intelligent, and strong. Nathan should see him throw an ax. Britt said they should go. Nathan had head trauma and needed to rest. Obrecht said, family was equally important in healing, but Britt said Obrecht knew she was right. Obrecht told Nathan that his sister was correct, and hugged him. She said, Britt surely wasn’t going to walk out without so much as a hug, and Britt said, sorry. She hugged him and said, welcome back, and they left. In the hallway, Spinelli, Felica, and James came out of the elevator. (Before they left, Nathan gave Britt a really odd look. My theory? Hear me out. Nathan is Faison. Faison has shown up as both Duke and Luke using a mask, but perhaps his brain was put into Nathan this time.)

Kristina told Molly that Michael was going through a difficult time and seeking comfort from a woman he was seeing. She wasn’t the first sex worker he’d hung out with. Molly shouldn’t be judgmental and shame Jacinda for what she did. Molly said she wasn’t, but the run-in was orchestrated. She worked in the DA’s office and knew he was securing an alibi.

Michael said it should have been a day about his grandmother, but Jacinda said she was sure his grandmother loved him and would want him to get out of the Drew situation clean. He said, she would, and Jacinda said she thought his grandmother would have no problem with him doing what he needed to do, even today. He said he just hoped it was enough. They both knew if the cops looked deeper, his alibi wouldn’t hold.

Anna told Turner that she’d secure a warrant to search the estate. If word got out that’s where they were focusing the investigation, the Quartermaines would close ranks. They did what they could to protect their own, even cover up an attempted murder of one of their own.

Ronnie said, in Monica’s letters, she described Tracy as aggressive and abrasive, and Tracy laughed and said, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Ronnie told her that Monica said she got her abrasiveness from her father, but it was tempered by her mother’s heart. She also said Tracy’s good intentions were masked by her armor of entitlement. What she left out of her assessment was how cold Tracy was. Tracy said Monica waxing poetic about her proved Monica was losing control of her faculties. She wanted Ronnie to leave. Ronnie said masks had a tendency to slip and she suspected Tracy may not be entitled to everything she thought she was. Her sincere condolences on this very sad day. She left.

On the phone, Alexis talked to her assistant about what was on the docket, as Ric snuck around behind her.

Tuesday:

No soap – baseball.

Wednesday:

Ditto.

Thursday:

Hit us one more time.

🫔 Friday’s Enchilada…

As Ric sneaks around behind her, on the phone, Alexis asks Suzanne, what’s on the docket for tomorrow?… Right. The reading of Monica Quartermaine’s will. That ought to go smoothly. Do her a favor. There’s a hard copy on her desk… She doesn’t need to messenger it. Just send an email. She’ll be in early in the morning… She turns around, then says, sorry. She must be hearing things.

Nathan reads the headline about himself in The Invader.

Felicia says, Nathan is awake and has a visitor, and Obrecht tells James that his father has been asking all about him. James says, really? and Obrecht says, of course (🍷), and she knows he’ll be delighted to finally meet James. James asks if he can see his father right now, but Britt says, wait. She’s his Aunt Britt. She’ll tell him all about it some time, but right now she needs to speak to the grown-ups for a minute. James says, okay, and she says, because he’s being so understanding – she gives him some cash – he can go get a soda from the vending machine. James asks Spinelli, can he? and Spinelli says, it’s after dark, so… James says, no caffeine, and Spinelli says, go for it. James says, copy, and runs off. Spinelli says, he’s out of earshot, and Obrecht says, good. Perhaps Dr. Westbourne will explain why they’re delaying the long-awaited reuniting of father and son. Britt says, sorry. But they can’t let James see his father.

Sonny looks at Monica’s photo on the memorial wall, when Ronnie approaches. She asks if Monica was a friend of his, and he tells her that he wouldn’t say that. They knew each other and he admired her very much. How about her? She says, Monica Quartermaine was her sister.

At the crypt, Tracy says, just when she thought she’d seen everything, along comes Ronnie. Thanks, Monica, for leaving me a mess to clean up. Michael walks in and she says, here comes another one.

Anna thanks Carly for coming to her office, and Carly asks if she needs Diane for this. Anna says, that’s up to Carly, but she’s just following up on questions from the night Drew was shot. Carly says, Anna already knows everything she needs to know. She was with Jack. End of story. Anna says she remembers Carly telling her that, but it’s not about her. It’s about Michael.

Elizabeth gives Molly the records she requested, and Molly says, the DA’s office is grateful for her cooperation. Elizabeth says she’s happy to help, but before Molly goes, has she heard from her dad?

Alexis thanks Suzanne and says she’s been helpful. She appreciates it. They’ll talk soon. She takes off her shoes and lies down on the couch. Suddenly, the Cassadine dagger is at her throat and Ric says, look what I found.

Obrecht asks, what’s wrong with Britt? James needs to meet his father, and Nathan would like to meet his son. Britt says she’s concerned jumping the gun here. Just because James’s father has resurfaced, doesn’t mean he should be rushed into a reunion. Father and son both need to be ready. Obrecht says, of course (🍷) they’re ready. Nathan said as much, and James wouldn’t be here if he didn’t want to. Spinelli says, Britt makes an excellent point, but Obrecht says, not everyone choses to stay away from a family that wants them. Nathan deserves to meet his son. Britt says, can she forget about her precious son for once and think about James? Do they really think Maxie would be okay with this?

Sonny says he’s sorry for Ronnie’s loss, and Ronnie thanks him. They introduce themselves, and Sonny apologizes and says he didn’t know Monica had a sister. Ronnie says, apparently, she’s the best kept secret Monica had. They didn’t grow up together, and after that, they sort of became estranged. Monica had her life, and she had hers. They only recently got in touch again. She doubts Monica would have told anyone in Port Charles about her. Sonny says, she definitely wouldn’t have told him, and she says, for most of her life, that was true for her too, but here they are. She guesses he was paying his respects. He says, Monica was an impressive woman, and they cared a lot about the same people. His adopted son Michael was Monica’s grandson. Ronnie says she knows that name. Monica wrote about him all the time in her letters. She was so proud of him. Sonny says, there was every reason to be, and she says, Monica adored Michael’s children Wiley and Amelia. Sonny laughs and says, they’re great kids. They were crazy about Monica. So was Michael. They had an incredible bond together, him and his grandmother. She says she was hoping to meet Michael back at the estate, but someone put stop to that, and he says, let him tell her something. Tracy Quartermaine loves to throw her weight around for a woman her size. Too bad. They’d have so much to talk about. She says, then they will. She’s not about to be scared off by Tracy Quartermaine.

Michael asks if he’s interrupting, and Tracy says she was just having a word with his grandmother. He asks if everything is okay, and she says, peachy. Monica left her a hornet’s nest to deal with. He asks if there’s anything he can do to help, but she says, no, considering he’s the one who kicked the nest. He asks how he did that, and she says he can thank his marital woes. Now it falls to her to keep him from getting convicted of the attempted murder of a sitting congressman. He says, it might feel that way to her, but he doesn’t need her to save him, all right? He can take care of himself.

Carly says, Michael has an alibi with that Jacinda woman, and Anna says, the escort. Carly says, it is what it is. Michael is a grown man and makes his own decisions, but an alibi is an alibi. Anna says, well, that’s true, yes, but she still needs to verify his movements for that evening, especially the points that intersect with Carly’s. Carly says, okay, and sits down. Anna says Carly spoke with him that night, did she not? and Carly says, yeah. Anna says, it’s not really a question. She has Michael’s phone records. What was the call about? Carly flashes back to telling Michael that Willow caved and went back to Drew. That meant Drew was calling the shots. Michael asks who told her, and she says, Drew, and Elizabeth confirmed it. She knows Drew is threatening him and saying he has proof that the judge took a bribe, but do not fall for it. Do not give in to Drew. Michael says he agrees with her. Drew has been making a lot of assumptions about what he can control, but he has no idea how quick circumstances can change for him. Carly tells Anna that she talks all the time to her son. She’s sure she was just telling him about her day. Anna asks if Michael can confirm her account, and Carly says, yeah.

Molly says she hasn’t heard from her dad, but she guesses that’s the whole point of the digital detox, and Elizabeth says, but it’s Ric they’re talking about. Frankly, she’s shocked he’s sticking to it. Molly says she’s surprised too. She’s supportive of the whole unplugging thing, but she never thought Ric would last this long. Elizabeth says she knows Ric loves to bend the rules, and figured by now he’d have gotten in touch, and Molly asks if she thinks he reached out to someone else. Elizabeth says, if Ric was skipping out on the detox, he’d contact Molly first, and Molly says, they’re the top two and her dad’s not here. Elizabeth says, she can totally understand Molly’s dad’s need to get away, but he couldn’t have picked a worse time to drop off the face of the planet.

Ric says, remember this dagger? He’s sure Alexis’s mother would. Alexis says, fine. You win. What do you want? He says, a shower more than anything, but first a phone call. She says he doesn’t have his phone, but he says, that’s okay. He’s got hers. She’s going to call the cops and confess everything that she’s done.

Alexis tells Ric that he needs to take a minute and think about this. If she calls the police, they’re all going down. That’s Ava, that’s Kristina, that’s her, and that’s him. He says, that was more of a concern before she decided to trap him in her basement, and she says, he’s going to like the basement more than prison. He says he’s sure he can make the jury very, very sympathetic, but she says she’s not so sure. He brandishes the dagger again, and she says, he needs to calm down. He knows when he’s angry like this nothing good comes of it. He says he’s definitely angry. More than angry, closer to enraged actually, but his thinking is clear. She says, if his thinking is clear, put the knife down, and he says, and deny himself the self-satisfaction of watching the cops haul her and her psycho daughter off? She says, he’ll be right behind them, and Molly won’t like it if he kills her mother. Ric says, she’s right. Molly wouldn’t, but he’s got a better idea.

Ronnie says she went to the crypt to pay her respects and in walked Tracy, and Sonny says, must have been interesting. She says, yeah. It was something. Monica had written about her, but boy, Monica did not do justice to what she just saw live and in person. He says, let him guess. Tracy didn’t welcome her with open arms to the family. She says, no. Tracy kicked her off the property. Someone named Yuri was supposed to lock the gates behind her. He says, sounds about right, and she says, so he knows Tracy. What does he make of her? He says, the honest truth? and she says, yes, please. He says, she’s an entitled snob, and she says, it’s the same word Monica used and the same word she did. She thanks him, calling him Mr. Corinthos, and says she appreciates the validation. He says, call him Sonny, and she says, okay.

Michael says, Tracy may recall he does have an alibi, and she says, the call girl. He’s incredibly naïve. Not only is a call girl a weak alibi… He says, they like to be called sex workers now, and she says, thank you for that. This sex worker also has a history with the victim. He says, a very brief history, and she says, an unsavory history, and that is not a good thing. He says, well, it’s the only alibi he’s got. Had he known he’d need one, he would have gotten an appropriate one beforehand. She says she knows he’s lying because she can place him in front of the house at the time of the shooting, and he says he drove over there, but he didn’t shoot Drew. She asks why else he’d be there, and he says, to confront Drew. She says, did he? and he says, no. She asks, why? and he says, because he realized there was no point. He was standing next to the car, getting soaking wet from the rain, and realized confrontation was exactly what Drew would have wanted him to do, so he didn’t give Drew what he was looking for, okay? Tracy says, so he just hopped in his car soaking wet and drove away, and he says, yes. He swears he didn’t go in the house. She says, there it is. He just proved he’s as Quartermaine as the rest of them. She can’t tell if he’s lying.

Carly says she can’t recall what they talked about, so she has no idea what Michael would say, and Anna says, fair enough. Carly asks if Anna is really going to bug Michael. His grandmother just died. Can she give it a rest? Anna says that’s what she’s doing. Out of respect for Michael’s loss, she’s questioning Carly. She thought, given Carly and Monica’s history, Carly wouldn’t be attending, so… Carly says she’s not grieving the way Michael is, but she’s sad that Monica died, and Anna says, of course (🍷). So things changed between her and Monica then? Carly tells her that she can’t say they got close, but over the years, she and Monica had something in common. Anna says, which was? and Carly says, Jason. Jason, Michael, Wiley, and Amelia were enough for Monica, so they were enough for her. Anna asks if it would be fair to say that Carly is welcomed at the Quartermaine estate, and Carly says, except for Tracy, yes, she is.

Spinelli tells Britt that they discussed it and had taken Maxie’s feelings into consideration. They couldn’t see how they could deny James the chance to meet his father. Britt says, James has already waited seven years. What’s one more night? Obrecht says, we’ve respectfully listened to your opinion, even though no one has asked for it. We can take it from here. Britt asks if they’d consider consulting a child therapist who can think of the best way for James to be introduced to his father, and Felicia says, well, that’s certainly something they could talk about. Spinelli agrees and says he guesses he’ll go break the bad news to James, but Britt says he doesn’t have to be one to disappoint James. She’ll do it. Obrecht says, the perfect choice. After all, who’s more proficient in doling out disappointment? Felicia says, when James comes back, she’ll help him to understand they want what’s best for him, and what’s best for him is to wait.

James goes into Nathan’s room, and Nathan says, hello there. James says, hi, and Nathan says, you must be James.

James says he got Nathan a soda. He didn’t know which kind Nathan liked, so he got orange and grape. Nathan can pick. Nathan says, James isn’t going to believe this, but orange and grape are both his favorites, and James says, really? Nathan says, really. So James has to help out by picking his favorite. James says, orange and grape are his favorites? No way. If he had to choose, he guesses he likes orange a little more. Nathan says he’ll take the grape. He likes that one a little more. They open their soda cans, and Nathan says, you know, we should have a toast. James says, to what? and Nathan says, to having the same favorite sodas as his son. (I gotta say, these two are very sweet together. If Ryan Peavey doesn’t have kids, he needs to get some.)

Outside Bobbie’s, Sonny says, Bobbie’s is the Port Charles institution that everyone comes to. That includes Ronnie’s sister. Ronnie says, Monica never struck her as the diner type, but Sonny says, Monica was full of surprises. They go in and sit down, and Ronnie says she’s been waiting tables since junior high and this place… Sonny says, yeah? and she says, the water glasses are full and the customers are happy. The food smells great and she loves the menu. He says, try the BLT. It’s unbelievable. She says, will do. The place is immaculate. Whoever owns it obviously cares. He says he’ll tell her. His ex-wife Carly owns it and she’ll be thrilled she’s getting rave reviews from a pro. They laugh, and Ronnie says, he’s been so kind and welcoming. She can’t imagine why he and Monica didn’t get along. He says, she had her reasons, and Ronnie says she’s sure Monica did. Even as a child, she had very strong opinions. When they finally got in touch again, she saw Monica hadn’t changed much, but then neither had she. He says, if she doesn’t mind him asking, when did they stop talking? and she says, a long, long time ago and as she said, they’d only gotten in touch recently. When Monica wrote her a letter, it was the surprise of her life. He says, good surprise? and she says, hell yeah. Oddly enough, that surprised her too. She hadn’t realized how much she missed Monica and now that she’s gone, she finds herself… He says, regretting the time she had? and she says, yeah. He says he’s been there.

Tracy tells Michael, congratulations. He inherited the family’s superpower. He says, if she’s so sure he’s lying, why not go to the cops and tell them what she saw? She says she thought she’d made herself clear. She doesn’t care if he shot Drew or not. She only cares that he stays a free man.

Carly tells Anna that her grandchildren live with the Quartermaines. Of course (🍷) they allow her on the property. Anna says, so she can go see them whenever she wants, and Carly says she absolutely can. Anna says, okay then. Great. She thanks Carly for her time and help, and Carly says, someone shot Drew. The SOB had it coming, but it wasn’t Michael, okay? It wasn’t Michael. So why doesn’t Anna do her job and stop trying to pin it on the obvious suspect. Anna says, it’s her responsibility to investigate every suspect, obvious or not, and Carly says, Michael didn’t shoot Drew. He’s not a killer. Anna says, Claudia Zacchara might beg to differ, and Carly says, he was defending her and his sister. Anna says, and she knows Carly would do anything to defend him, and Carly leaves.

Alexis asks what Ric is going to do with Elizabeth, and he says he’s guessing his Porsche isn’t parked in Alexis’s driveway. She says, no, and he says, that means he needs a ride home. She suggests he call a Ride Share, and he says, this may come as a complete surprise, but after being locked in her basement for a while, he’s not willing to negotiate. Now call Elizabeth and put it on speaker. She makes the call.

Elizabeth asks if Molly thinks her dad reached out to Ava, but Molly says, not a chance. So who does that leave? Elizabeth’s phone rings and she says, it’s Molly’s mom. She answers, hi, Alexis, when Ava comes out of nowhere, throwing a liquid in Ric’s face. He screams, aagghh! My eyes! Psycho! (God forgive me, I’m dying laughing.) Alexis disconnects the call, and Elizabeth says, that’s weird. Molly’s mom is texting her. Molly asks what she’s saying, and Elizabeth says, she called by accident. Molly says she guesses it happens, and Elizabeth says, it does, but… Molly says, but what? and Elizabeth says she could have sworn she heard Ric’s voice. Molly asks if Elizabeth thinks her dad ditched his detox without a word to either of them so he could meet up with her mom.

Ava hits Ric in the face and then over the head with something and he falls to the floor.

Sonny says he and his father were estranged for years, but not as many as Ronnie and Monica, but Ronnie says, it’s not a contest. He says, for a while, it was tough. As tough as it was and as many times as he told himself he didn’t care about his father or what happened to him, the time apart didn’t make him love his father any less, and believe him, he tried. She asks if they ever found their way back to each other, and he says, yeah. Their final year together… Ronnie says she knows he’s suffering, and he says, everybody’s different. She says, not so different. Before Monica died, she was working up the nerve to suggest meeting in person. She almost brought it up in her last couple of letters, but she didn’t. Then she said she was definitely going to ask the next time, but then… He says he’s sorry, and she says, her too. He says he doesn’t know if this will help, but his son Michael said, even though in the end her health wasn’t good, Monica was happy with her life, and she went peacefully. She says, that does help, and thanks him. He says, anytime.

Michael says he honestly doesn’t understand the sudden drive to protect him, and Tracy says she thought it would be self-explanatory. He says, if he’s convicted, all his stocks go into a trust which will increase Ned’s standing. She and Ned can broker leadership rolls. Hell, they could even groom Gio to follow in Edward’s footsteps. It’s what she always wanted for Ned. She says she thought he knew better than that. She’s a woman who always pays her debts. He asks what she could possibly owe him, and she says, nothing, but she owes Monica. No matter how many times Monica threw her out. Monica always took her back. Monica wouldn’t want anything to happen hm, so it’s her job, her duty, to see nothing does.

Anna tells Molly that they got the ballistics back, and the two bullets taken from Drew matched a gun already in the system, a gun that once belonged to Edward Quartermaine, part of the Quartermaine collection. Molly says, okay, but a lot of people come in and out of that house every day, and Anna says, Carly and Michael have a strong motive and a weak alibi. Molly seems hesitant, and Anna says, what is it? Molly says she and Kristina were at the Quartermaines this morning to give Michael their condolences. Anna says, and? and Molly says, it’s probably nothing. Anna says, Molly formed a perspective as an ADA. Did something occur at the Quartermaines that could be germane to this investigation?

Britt says, if Spinelli and Felicia want a reference for a child therapist to talk to James, she can find one, and Obrecht says, as can she, if they find it necessary. Felicia says she just hopes James gets in to see someone soon, and Spinelli wonders, where is James? He should be back by now.

Nathan says, now you try the grape one and I’ll try the orange one, and James says, okay, but he thinks they should have water first. Nathan says, good idea. Will he help out? James says, yeah, and Nathan tells him to get the cups. Spinelli, Felicia, and Obrecht stand in the doorway smiling, while off to the side, Britt doesn’t look happy.

Elizabeth says, they’ve been waiting on the x-rays and Britt said she’d be right back, and Britt says, sorry. Her seven-year-old nephew is in that room meeting his father for the first time, a man he knows nothing about and is supposed to be dead, until a couple of days ago. She found that concerning, so she took a break. If Elizabeth has to fire her, go ahead, but she’s not leaving this spot. Not yet. Elizabeth says, okay, and Britt says, okay, meaning what? Elizabeth says they make allowances for family situations, so take all the time she needs. She’ll get the x-rays. Just let her know next time.

James says, guess what? He and his dad have the same favorite sodas, orange and grape. His father likes grape a little more and he likes orange a little more. Obrecht says, isn’t that remarkable? and Nathan says, now that they’ve covered sodas, why doesn’t James tell him what else he likes. Maybe they have more stuff in common. James says he likes comic books, horses, jumping off… In the hallway, Felicia asks if Spinelli is okay, and Spinelli says, they shouldn’t have brought James here.

At Bobbie’s, Carly thanks Sonny for sticking around, and he says, no problem. What’s up? She says, the PCPD thinks Michael is the prime suspect in Drew’s shooting, and he says, why is that? She says, because Anna just called her in for questioning and it became immediately clear Anna wanted her to say something that would incriminate Michael. She should have called Diane. He says, she didn’t give Anna anything, and she says, no, but she feels like she did. She feels like she gave something away.

Molly tells Anna that when she and Kristina got to the Quartermaines, Michael wasn’t alone. Jacinda was there. Anna laughs and asks if Molly thinks they’re involved, but Molly says she doesn’t know. Jacinda claimed she was there for the same reason she and Kristina were there, to give her condolences. Anna says, is that it? Is there something else? Molly says, that’s it. She doesn’t have any proof for this, but she got the feeling Michael orchestrated the whole thing. Anna says, how so? and Molly says Michael knew they were coming over; he invited them. So she feels like Jacinda was there for her benefit. If so… Anna says, Michael was shoring up his alibi.

Alexis and Ava struggle to get Ric back in the bed, and Alexis asks, why is he so heavy? Ava says, it must be his fat head. The more important question is, how his big fat head got loose. (Ha-ha-ha!) Alexis says she has no idea, but he was very lucid for a guy who’s been drugged for a while. Ava says she gave him a pill before she left, and starts feeling around the mattress. Alexis says, not that she’s complaining, but why did Ava come back? and Ava says she came back for her planner. She wasn’t going to, but… Damn it, Ric! Alexis says, what? and Ava says, he must have been spitting them out. She’s sorry. She didn’t see him do it. She should have jammed the pills down his throat with her fist. Alexis says, there are ten pills in there. He’s been trying to escape for ten days. Ava says, he took his shot. He missed and he’s not getting another one. Ava puts Ric in the handcuffs, and Alexis asks if she needs help. Ava says, no thank you. Of course (🍷), after all, they’re in this together, aren’t they. Ric comes to and sees he’s handcuffed again. He yells, nooo!

Elizabeth leaves a voicemail: Hey, Ric. It’s me just checking in. You’re still doing your technical detox and not back in Port Charles, are you? Call me back.

Ava tells Ric, you know what’s funny? If you’d just kept running, you’d be a free man by now, but you couldn’t do that, could you? You had to come back and try to get one over on Alexis. Like I said, you’re a greedy man… and an ass. A greedy ass. Ric says, she can’t keep him locked up here. It’s inhuman. Alexis says, sorry her basement lacks the amenities of the panic room he built to have Carly stashed in, but besides his abominable behavior… He says, his abominable behavior? and Alexis says, there is good news. Because soon, all the money he forced her to embezzle will be back in the Cassadine trust. Ava says, except for her divorce settlement of course (🍷), and Alexis says, yeah. So just wait ten more days… He says, ten days? and Ava says he won’t even notices. It’ll fly by because he will be feeling no pain at all. He says, no, no, no, and keeps his lips tight. Ava says, open up, and tells Alexis, hold his nose. She gets Ric’s mouth open, and says, swallow it. He gulps, and she says, they need to be sure. Say, ah. She checks his mouth and says, all right. Atta boy. Alexis asks if Ava wants to do the honors, and Ava brings out a gag. Ric asks if it’s really necessary, and Ava puts it in his mouth. She says, that’s better, and she and Alexis high-five.

James says he’s glad that his dad is back. Isn’t his Oma? Obrecht says she couldn’t be happier, and Nathan says him too. It’s like he went to bed imagining what his son would be like and woke up to the best present ever.

In the hallway, Felicia says, it seems like they were worried about nothing. James and Nathan haven’t missed a beat. Spinelli says he can see that, and she asks, what’s the matter? He says he’s a bit embarrassed, but he can’t help feeling a little jealous. He’s been James’s de facto dad and now… She says, his real father is back. He knows how much James loves him. He says he does. He’s sure it’s the green-eyed monster talking, but something feels very wrong. Britt watches them, and James tells Nathan, when they let him come home from here, he should go ax throwing with him and Oma. She taught him how to throw like a Viking. Nathan says, she did? And is he good? James says, yes, he is.

Carly tells Sonny that Anna has Michael’s phone records from the night Drew was shot. She knows when he talked and knows how long. Sonny asks, what happened on their call? and Carly says she gave Michael the perfect motive. She told him that Willow was going back to Drew. She didn’t tell Anna that. He asks what she did say, and she says she told Anna to give Michael a break. His grandmother just died, for God’s sake. He asks if she and Anna talked about anything else, and she says, they talked about how she and Monica mended fences. Then Anna asked if she was allowed to visit Wiley and Amelia at the house, and she said yes. He says, so Anna started off asking questions about Michael, then started asking questions about her. Carly says she’s not a suspect. She was with Jack. He says he doesn’t buy that, and she says, if he doesn’t, Anna won’t either. He says, Anna knows she would kill for Michael and so does he.

Molly says, Michael had easy access to the gun used in the shooting, so that gives him means and he certainly had motive. If Jacinda is covering for his whereabouts, then he’d have the opportunity. Anna says, right. That puts him at the top of the suspect list, right next to Carly. Molly asks if Anna is going to secure a warrant to get the gun, and Anna says, it’s in the process as they speak, but the gun is almost certainly going to be wiped down. She guesses she’ll give it to forensics and see what they pull. Molly says, if they can tie gun to Michael or Carly, can that be enough for an arrest?

Michael thanks Tracy for everything she’s willing to do for him, regardless of who she’s doing it for, and she says, Monica loved him. He says he appreciated the way Tracy cared for her and how she’s looked out for the rest of them. He’d truly like to express his gratitude… Tracy says, when he inherits the house – and he will – she would hope he would extend the same hospitality to her that Monica did. This will soon be his house, but it will always be her home.

Sitting down in her hotel room, Ronnie says, what a day. Her phone rings, and she says, oh no. Okay, okay. She gets up, shuffles to the bed, and gets her phone out of her purse. She says, hello… Yep, this is she… Oh yes. Of course (🍷) I will be there. She ends the call and says, well, this should be interesting.

On Monday, Carly can’t shake the feeling that she said something wrong; Alexis tells Curtis that the police are closing in on him and he has to protect himself; and Jason asks why Britt is trying to stop James from seeing his dad.

My vote is for Tracy, who should in turn give it to Jason. Who would probably not take it. Although Tracy seems to think so, I don’t know if she’d leave it to Michael.

💉 A Dose Of Reality…

Below Deck Mediterranean

The first episode of a Below Deck season is always tough for me. I got spoiled when it was the same crew for many seasons in the beginning. Now there seems to be a new set of names every time the boat docks. Aesha is back as chief stew, and of course, Captain Sandy, so there’s that. Nathan of the first boatmance baby was trying as bosun, but crashing a jet ski into a very expensive piece of equipment wasn’t a good look. I’ll pay more attention as the season goes on and the guests get obnoxious. The first charter was a bit of a snoozefest. Not loving Kizzi, who likes to toy with boys. Ugh.

the new cast.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

It really is hard for me to look at Heather’s hollow cheeks. That being said, Lisa had a luncheon to explain how her dismissed lawsuits had been dismissed, complete with Mad Men easel and storyboards. Apparently, the louder you are, the more believable you are, and Lisa finally got to the point where she was waving around a board like she was on a highway corner advertising for Bob’s furniture, while chanting, dismissed, dismissed, dismissed! The one thought that often comes to mind while watching any Housewives is, are we five? and this was that moment. There was a kerfuffle about Whitney’s failed business, and Whitney ended up walking out, saying Lisa was triggering her. Alrighty then.

Real Housewives Of Orange County

Fancy Pants Heather was offended that no one thought she could possibly be funny, and Gina said she just didn’t know Fancy Pants was a comedian. Fancy Pants asked her, what do you think acting is? Touché.  Emily told Tamra about Gretchen and family praying before taking a trip, Tamra said Gretchen was no Christian since she spread rumors, and was hiding behind the Jesus curtain. Here’s where I looked at the camera like Jim from The Office. Not only did Tamra make a huge production about becoming a Christian – water baptism and all – she then proceeded to continue acting like a screeching shrew. When Emily said both she and Fancy Pants trusted Tamra the least of the group, Tamra stomped upstairs in her age inappropriate skirt. She came back down, since it was her house and the planned activity for the day was a lesson in cake decorating. Since Tamra continued hammering at pretty much everyone, the cake decorator lady couldn’t have looked more uncomfortable. Tamra did a take-two, stomping upstairs again after a tirade about Jenn following the boy band member Tamra allegedly banged. She also quit for the second time. I think. As everyone left, Gina asked, should we bring the cake? as we all would have.

Real Housewives Of Miami – Reunion Part 1

Andy said this was the only reunion only to begun with a tequila shot, which I thought was probably a bad idea. There was a lot of non-tequila shot for shot, like when Guerdy said no one backed her when Julia threw water at her. This prompted Alexia to point out how that’s happened to just about everyone. Julia apologized to Guerdy for the 4256th time. I loved Stephanie’s formal introduction to the franchise, where she would not apologize for loving being filthy rich, but did admit to coming off as harsh after seeing herself. They ended with a bang – pun possibly intended – when Julia blurted out that she and Adriana had slept together. Whaaat?

👀  Last Weekend’s Watch…

28 Years Later. Netflix. No big surprise, I enjoyed the hell out of this. It was relentless from the beginning, and brought something new to the table with its Alpha zombies. Although I did find them a little reminiscent of the Abbies in Wayward Pines. Young lad Spike lives with his parents on an idyllic island – at least as idyllic as you can be in a post-apocalyptic world. Spike’s dad is taking him to the mainland to learn how to hunt those with the Rage virus (i.e. zombies) and check out what’s been going on out in the world. There are no zombies on the island, and while citizens are allowed to travel to the mainland, if you get in trouble, you’re on your own. No one is going to come looking for you. There was a bit of humor here and there, none of it seeming contrived. One thing that really stood out were the sets, from the bar on the island (seriously, I would never leave this place for the mainland) to the gorgeously designed Bone Temple. Sony Pictures CEO said, the next one (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple) is much more about man’s inhumanity to man. Isn’t that what all zombie films are ultimately about?

Cobweb. Netflix. About five minutes in, I thought, if this is an allegory about child abuse… and it kinda was, but at least less misleading than Woman in the Yard. And also more rewarding at the end. A young boy with horrific parents is hearing something in the walls and he insists on finding out what or who it is.

Wayward. Netflix. This limited series sucked me in immediately. Seeing Toni Collette in anything is always a treat. Even when it’s something I’m not crazy about, watching her  is like watching a master class in acting. She’s also one of those chameleon actors, like Guy Pearce, who has the ability to absorb a character to the point that you forget it’s her underneath. All I needed to know was that it was about a school for troubled children that’s not what it seems to be, and I was intrigued. The characters are diverse and multi-dimensional, it had a great sense of humor, and the plot keeps you guessing about who’s trustworthy or not. I nearly binged the whole thing, but saved the last two episodes for my next streaming sesh.

M3GAN 2.0. Peacock. it’s as bad as the reviews said, but I didn’t hate it. Still, I wasn’t sure if they were trying to be ironic in the stupidity of it all. M3GAN has become a caricature of herself as she comes out of retirement to confront AMELIA, a killer robot bent on destruction. The acting wasn’t bad, and I actually enjoyed the robot dance-off, but I could have done without the Freddy Krueger one-liners. You wouldn’t give your children cocaine. Why give them a Smartphone? Why indeed.

🎃 And So It Begins…

An interesting, eclectic list. However, I’d go with the original 1977 version of The Hills Have Eyes. Michael Berryman is the best. I’d also stick with the remake of Thirteen Ghosts. The acting is great, but the house and special effects make it so worth it.

October 7, 2024 – Lucky Gets Bad News, Table Turning, No Sense, First Sail Of the Season, The Crew, Pop Culture Pets (!) & Scary

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Lucky sees Aiden at the hospital, and Aiden says, hi.

Diane goes to Robert’s office, and he says he wants to run something by her before other people do. Holly is back in town.

On the phone, Holly says, it’s their favorite supplier. Do they have any updates on the ice? As exquisite as these are, she’s in a hurry to part with them. There’s a knock at the door, and she tells them to call the second they hear. It’s Jack with a bottle of wine. He tells her that it’s an excellent vintage.

Tracy asks if Violet is writing her weekly letter to Finn, and Violet says she is. Tracy says she thought Violet liked writing to him, and Violet says, something bad happened at school and she doesn’t know if she should tell him. Some kid called him a drunk and she punched them.

Principal Ford thanks Brook and Chase for coming, and Brook says, Violet is their number one priority. Chase says, she’s never hit anyone before, and Brook says, they told her that it wasn’t an excuse, but the other student provoked her. Ford says, it’s an ongoing issue with the student that they hope to nip in the bud, but hitting is never the answer. Brook says, they told Violet that, and Chase says, she understands. Ford says he thinks they might have to dig deeper, but that’s a great start.

Lucas goes into Bobbie’s, and Willow walks in with Wiley. She says, he’s back. It’s good to see him. He says, her too, and Wiley asks who he is.

Tracy tells Violet that she’s sorry. That kid was extremely rude. Violet probably knows what she’s going to say next. Violet says she probably shouldn’t punch anyone, but she was upset. Tracy says, being upset is acceptable, but getting violent is not. Violet tells her, that’s what Uncle Chase and Brook said, and Tracy says, they’re smart people. Violet wonders if she can ask Tracy a question. When her dad was on the floor sleeping and couldn’t wake up, is that what being a drunk is? Tracy says, her dad has an illness called alcoholism. Some people are fine with alcohol. They can drink it and it’s not a problem, but for her dad, it is. He’s getting help at a special hospital. Violet says, if he knows it’s a problem, why doesn’t he stop? and Tracy says, for some people, it’s not that simple. They have to teach themselves that they can’t have it. Violet says, it’s taking a long time to learn, but she’s glad her dad isn’t home. She wants the lesson to stick. Tracy says her too.

Brook says, Violet is super resilient. She’s still getting excellent grades, and she’s involved in everything at home. Ford says, she’s withdrawn in school, and Brook says, she has a massive support system. Ford says, don’t panic. A big change can cause a shift in behavior. They want to help Violet thrive. Chase asks if she’s not doing that.

Holly says she’d never invite a stranger in, and Jack introduces himself. She lets him in and asks if he’ll do the honors. He says, no trouble, and opens the bottle. She says, as flattered as she is, she can’t imagine what the WSB would want from her, and he says, her expertise. She says, the subject? and he says, Jenz Sidwell and his diamond mine operation in East Africa.

Willow introduces Lucas as Wiley’s great uncle, and says, he’s Grandma Carly’s brother. Wiley introduces himself and they shake hands.

Lucky says he’s sorry he didn’t keep in touch, and Aiden says, Lucky was busy. Lucky says, that’s no excuse, when Elizabeth joins them. She says she was hoping they’d find each other, but she doesn’t think this is the right place for a reunion. Why don’t they go to the breakroom?

Jack asks how Holly and Sidwell met, and she says, they share a taste for the finer things in life. They clink glasses, and she says, they’d find themselves in the same hotels, restaurants, and casinos. Jenz finally introduced himself and the rest is history. He asks what she can tells him about Sidwell’s operation, but she says, their relationship was personal, not business. Jenz kept his business dealings close to the vest. If she’d known what he was up to… He doesn’t believe her. Jack says, she has a reputation for infiltrating difficult to get to places to find difficult to get to people. She did it many times for the WSB. She says, this not that. She only became aware of who Sidwell truly was when Anna and Jason arrived. Then she only focused on helping Lucky get home. He must have ordered the drone strike. He says he can neither confirm nor deny, and she says, they could have all been killed. He says, yet here she is, alive and well. She reminds him of a former agent he’s had the pleasure of knowing. Robert Scorpio.

Robert tells Diane that Holly is back. He wanted her to know because he doesn’t want anything between them. He apologizes for the way he acted last time. She says, any other reason? and he says, she’s his present and future. Holly is his past. She says she feels the same way, and he says he’s sorry about the kiss. It created doubts and he doesn’t want her to have any doubts. She says, as long as his lips only touch hers, she’ll have no doubts, and he suggests they practice. She says, great idea, and they kiss.

Tracy says, Violet’s father loves her very much. He’s determined, and working hard to get well. As for the boy she hit, he shouldn’t talk to her like that. It was wrong, but she gave him what he wanted. Violet says, Garth wanted her to punch him? but Tracy says, he wanted to upset her and hitting him showed him that she was upset. You don’t want to give people like that the satisfaction. Violet asks what she does if it happens again, and Tracy says, take a deep breath, get herself together, and say, je n’ai pas de temps pour toi. Pshh! Violet asks what that means, and Tracy says, I have no time for you. Pshh! in French. Violet says, je n’ai pas de temps pour toi, and Tracy says, perfect. She tells Violet that she has to make a phone call, and in the hallway, she calls Diane.

Wiley tells Lucas that they’re going on a boat ride, when Maxie and Michael walk in. Maxie says, rude. She didn’t know Lucas was home. They hug and Wiley tells Michael that Lucas is his great uncle. Michael says, Lucas is his uncle, but still great. He and Lucas hug, and Michael says, welcome home. Lucas says he hears they’re going on a boat ride, and Willow says, Wiley loves everything about boats. Michael says, he’s the best first mate around, and Wiley asks if Lucas wants to come, but Lucas says he has to run. He forgot this thing he has to do. He’ll see them all later. He leaves, and Maxie says she forgot an appointment that she has too. She hopes they have the best day. She jets, and Willow asks Wiley to go get some cookies. He goes to the counter, and Michael says, that was… She says, Lucas put on a brave face, but that had to be hard.

Gio tells Violet that Tracy is on the phone and she’s not happy. Violet says she thinks it’s about her. She punched a kid who said mean things about her dad. Gio says, his family would cheer her on, but she says, that’s not the way to handle it. You just say, je n’ai pas de temps pour toi – pshh! and walk away.

Elizabeth puts some sodas and snacks on the table, and Lucky thanks her. She leaves, and Lucky says he owes Aiden a huge apology.

There’s a knock at Holly’s door, and she opens it to Felicia. Felicia says, it’s true. Holly is here. They hug, and Felicia says she heard what happened from Anna. What did Holly get herself into? Jack says, that’s what he’d like to know.

Gio tells Violet that she must miss her dad a whole lot. He misses his mom every day. Lois peeks in, but stays outside the door. Violet says she’s sorry. Does it get better? Gio says, it gets easier. The good news is, she’ll see her dad again. In the meantime, she has an incredible family with lots of love to give. He had the Cerullos. She says, it’s not the same, and he says, nothing can ever compare to the love of a parent. In the hallway, Tracy asks if Lois is eavesdropping, and Lois says, no. Tracy says, lurking? and Lois says she’s giving them privacy to talk. Tracy says, her accent is showing, and Lois says, feel free to report her to Miss Finch. She tells Tracy that Brook got a text from the principal, and Tracy says she handled it. Lois asks what she did.

Chase says, Violet was having a harder time than they thought, and Brook wonders if they made a mistake moving her to the Quartermaines. She asks what Ford thinks about a therapist, and he says, therapy is never a bad idea. Violet is still a wonderful, creative, and curious child. She’s experiencing a rough patch, but together, they can get her through it. Chase thanks him, and he says he has every confidence they’ll turn this around. Brook says, they’ll keep him in the loop, and Ford says he’ll do the same. Ford opens the door, and Diane is there. She says she’s here on behalf of her client Violet Finn.

Lucas goes to Bobbie’s grave and says, it seems strange and wrong. He misses her and hopes she’s at peace. He could use some. If she has any extra, send it his way. Maxie shows up, and he says, stalker. She says, runaway, and he asks how she knew where to find him. She says, her Spidey sense, and they hug.

Michael says, Lucas could have made it hard for him to get custody, but he didn’t, and he’s thankful. He knew what it cost Lucas and Lucas made it easy when he didn’t have to. Willow asks if he knows who else didn’t have to. He didn’t have to share Wiley with her when they realized Wiley wasn’t hers and her baby was gone. That could have been the end of her being a mom. She owes it all to him.

Lucky tells Aiden that it’s his fault they haven’t talked. It’s not that he didn’t want to. He was just in places where… It’s no excuse. He should have figured out a way. Aiden says he’s glad Lucky is here now, and Lucky says, it’s important that Aiden knows it’s not because he didn’t want to hear from him, and Aiden admits that he did think that was why Lucky stopped answering him. Lucky says he’s sorry. He had a lot going on. He wanted to talk to Aiden, but they can talk now. Aiden says, there’s something he wants Lucky to know. He doesn’t know how to say it, so he’ll just say it. He didn’t want to write it in an email or say it in a video call. He’s… gay.

Felicia asks what Jack is doing here, and Jack says, WSB business. Felicia says she thinks he’s a jerk, and Jack says, on that charming note, he thanks Holly for her time. He gives her his card and asks her to contact him if she remembers anything she left out. He leaves, and Felicia says she doesn’t like him. Holly says she picked up on that, and Felicia asks if Holly is all right. Holly asks if she doesn’t look all right, and Felicia says, she looks stunning. What happened? How long is she in town? Why isn’t she staying with them? Holly says she saw Mac and he wasn’t exactly thrilled to see her, but Felicia says she is. She missed Holly. Holly says she missed all of them, and they hug. Felicia says, including Robert?

Aiden tells Lucky, say anything, and Lucky says, Aiden told him that he didn’t know how to say it, and he feels the same. Give him a second… Here goes. He’s Aiden’s father and he loves Aiden without exception. If he made Aiden question that because he was gone, he’s sorry. Aiden says he knows Lucky loves him, and Lucky asks, how? It’s hard to explain how much love you have for your kid. It comes from deep inside from the second they’re born. Nothing will ever change the way he feels about Aiden. Aiden thanks him and says he feels like he can breathe. Lucky says, it’ll be okay, and they hug.

Maxie says, Wiley has been Michael’s son for over a year, and Lucas says, that’s why he left. He had to condition himself not to feel like Wiley’s dad. Maxie asks if it worked, and Lucas says, Wiley is Michael’s son. There’s no grey area. Wiley is so big, outgoing, and… Maxie says, adorable, and Lucas says, what struck him the most was how happy and secure Wiley is with two loving parents. What more could he want for Wiley? He knew Michael would give Wiley a wonderful life and he was right.

At the table, Wiley wears headphones, and Willow asks if Michael has ever considered telling Wiley the truth. Michael says he has. He’s just not sure how to explain it. She says, maybe they can figure it out together when he’s ready, and he says he’s ready. Willow takes Wiley’s headphones off and says, there’s something they want to talk to him about. Wiley asks if he’s in trouble, but Michael asks why he thinks that. Wiley says, whenever he is, they start with that, and Michael says he’s not in trouble. Willow says they want to share something about someone, and Michael says, Uncle Lucas.

Brook says, obviously, her grandmother sent Diane, and Diane says, Violet has an impeccable record. to reduce her to single incident is absurd and the appropriate legal action will be taken. Brook says, stop, and tells Ford that she’s sorry. Does he mind giving them a private moment? Ford says, of course (🍷), and they go into the hallway. Brook asks what Diane is doing, and Diane says, Tracy contacted her about the issue, and the best way to be on the offensive is to put the school on the defensive. Make it their problem. Chase says, the school has been great and they’re handling it together, and Diane says, Tracy called her, and she came. She fights hard for the people she cares about. Chase says, luckily, the school cares too and they’re handling it. Diane says, if anything changes… and Brook says, they know who to call.

Brook and Chase go back in the office, and Brook tells Ford that she’s sorry. It won’t happen again. Ford says he’s pleased with their progress. A lot of parents just blame the school and it’s difficult to find common ground. Brook says, they want the best for Violet, and Ford says he thinks Violet will be just fine.

Holly says she hasn’t seen Robert, but she wants to, and Felicia asks, what’s stopping her? Holly says, Mac told her that it’s not fair how she keeps popping up in Robert’s life, and if she couldn’t stay in his life, she had no right. Felicia says she can’t avoid Robert altogether, and Holly says, the last time was so final. Robert said he couldn’t see a future for them. What if he meant it? Felicia says, there’s an ocean of history between them. Don’t make that choice for him. They need to find a way forward together. Holly says, that’s the opposite of what Mac said, and Felicia says she’ll deal with Mac. Holly needs to deal with the other Scorpio brother.

Terry asks how Elizabeth’s day is going, and Elizabeth says she’s totally freaking out. Aiden and Lucky are in the breakroom talking. They have a lot to catch up on. Terry says, like Aiden being gay, and Elizabeth says, he told her? Terry asks if she’s surprised. (Seriously.) Spaces don’t come safer. Does Elizabeth think Aiden will tell Lucky? Elizabeth says, no, but she hopes so. Aiden is so unsure of his relationship with his dad, and she wants Aiden to know how loving, patient, and funny Lucky is. And she wants Lucky to know how incredible Aiden is. Terry says she has to trust they’ll be okay. They got this. Elizabeth’s phone rings, and she says, it’s the lab. Terry asks if it’s Lucky’s test results.

Lucky asks Aiden to fill him on how his life is going, and Aiden says he has a baking business. He does pretty well, and the money is paying his way to Paris where he’s going to study pastry baking. Lucky says, Aiden reminds him of his dad. Wherever they went, he always found a way to make a living. They ran a diner in British Columbia – the Triple L. His dad did the cooking and baking. Aiden says, he’s a legend in Port Charles.

Lucas says, Maxie seems like she’s in a good place, and she says, what about him? He says he’s going to rock the role of uncle. What’s new in her life? She says she’s back with Spinelli, for good and for real, and he says, everything old is new. She seems happy. She says, very, and he says, that’s all he wanted for her. She says, that’s all she wants for him too.

Brook tells Violet that Ford isn’t mad at her. He believes in her. Chase says, but they don’t hit no matter how awful the person is. Gio says, some people do, but Brook says, he’s not helping. Violet has to apologize, and she’s suspended for the rest of the week. They’ll get through this together. All for one, and one for all. They hug.

Holly stands outside Robert’s office and fixes her hair. She walks in and says, hello, and he says, it’s about time she showed up. She says, he’s been waiting for her? and he says, all his life.

Michael says, there was a time Wiley wasn’t with mommy and daddy. He was with Uncle Lucas. Willow says, Uncle Lucas was someone who did what mommy and daddy do. He fed Wiley and took care of him and played with him. They had a special relationship until the time came for Wiley to go home with them. Michael says, Uncle Lucas is very special to their family, and Wiley asks if they can go to the boat now. (Typical kid. When you think they’re going to react, they shrug it off.) Michael says, sure, and Wiley says, race him. He takes off and Michael follows.

Maxie says, after several relationships that didn’t work out, she thought her heart was closed, but she looked up and Spinelli was there. She’s glad she woke up and opened her eyes to see what was right in front of her. Are his eyes closed? He says, do not set him up or push him toward a relationship. He doesn’t want to deal with that, and he means it. She says, what if the perfect guy falls out of the sky? and he says, the perfect guy doesn’t exist. And if he does, he’ll find him himself. Maxie says, even though Lucas can be a brat, she’s glad he’s home. She missed him. He says, back at her, brat included, and she asks what perfection entails. Rock hard abs had better be on the list. He says, in the top 10, and she says, more like the top 3. He tells her, don’t ever change.

Elizabeth asks how it’s going, and Lucky says, he and Aiden had a good talk. Aiden says he’s ten minutes late and has to get to Julia’s to play Carjack. He leaves, and Elizabeth asks if Lucky is sticking around. Lucky says, for a little. He won’t leave without letting them know… What is it? It’s bad, isn’t it? She says she’s sorry, but he’s not a viable donor for Lulu.

I’m guessing it’s Lucas.

Tomorrow, Dante tells Rocco that he’s not going to let it happen; Felicia tells Mac that if Robert and Holly want to be together, there’s nothing they can do; and Lucky kicks a bunch of people out of Bobbie’s.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Here’s the guy whose last name should have been Yawn. Don’t get me wrong. Captain Glenn is a lovely man, but he’s not all that interesting.

This season, we’re sailing to Ibiza, which captain Glenn says is the party capital of the world. Daisy is back as chief stew and ugh, Gary is back as first mate. In his interview, Chef Cloyce says he’s only 22, but that doesn’t mean he’s an idiot. We’ll see. The deckhands are Keith and Emma, and Davide is the engineer. Stews Diana and Danni round out the crew, and it looks like there will be drinking and tears. In Gary’s interview, he says he wants to work on his leadership skills and keep his emotions under control. Again, we’ll see. We flashed back to how Gary made Daisy’s life a misery last season when she wanted a relationship with the only actual catch on the boat, Colin, who has obviously moved on from Daisy and the franchise.

We flash back to the mess that was the Parseval last season, but Captain Glenn says, they gave it a complete engine overhaul. He tells the crew that he has high expectations. Good luck with that. Daisy says, they’re a team and she doesn’t expect hostility. She thinks it’s important that she and Gary communicate. Good vibes, good season. Maybe it would help if Gary would quit rolling his eyes. I already hate him.

In Daisy’s interview, she says, when she gave ranking, it was a complete disaster, so she’s switched to just keeping the interior as a team. Already, Daisy saying team could be a drinking game. The primaries are Dr. Contessa and Dr. Scott (Dr. Scott!), who are celebrating their anniversary with friends, who are also celebrating theirs. They want a surf and turf dinner, a leather and lace party, and the women want a local dance instructor to teach them sexy moves. Cloyce reads that one of the guests is allergic to shellfish, and says he hopes they live. This goes over like a lead balloon, but I literally lol. Glenn says, they have high profile guests, since his bar is low, and he wants high standards. He wants to give them the experience of a lifetime. Fun fact: Danni worked on a Russian boat that was seized and she thought it was pretty cool to meet the FBI.

Daisy wasn’t having it with Gary and tells him that after she and Colin broke up, she needed a friend, and he ignored her. She says she never held anything against him, but he left her on her own to figure things out. He claims he didn’t want to start more drama, and in his interview, he says he needed to step away, but feels sick to his stomach about being a sh*tty friend. They hug and now I’m sick to my stomach. In Daisy’s interview, she says, Gary isn’t aware that apologizing means doing things different in the future, and she knows he’ll just hurt her again. Um… How about finding a new friend? This guy cannot be friends with a woman.

Cloyce puts on a blindfold to cut an onion. Has he never heard of the matchstick technique? In Cloyce’s interview, he says he started entering cooking competitions when he was ten or eleven and could see over the stove, then began culinary classes in high school. Hey, I can make a very nice capellini and a great egg sandwich.

I find out the pronunciation is I-bith-a, and we get a tour of the revamped Parseval. Dinner orders are taken and one of the guests wants their steak well done. I wonder what’s wrong with them. Daisy makes the mistake of asking guest Mona Lisa (yep, that’s her name) what she’d like as her turf, since she doesn’t eat beef or pork. This starts a chain reaction of everyone wanting something different, when Cloyce had asked specifically for no substitutions. Like that would happen on a superyacht. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, it’s only the most important meal, since it’s the first one. Thanks, Daisy. It’s not like it was her fault. He told her to ask Mona Lisa and the others just jumped in. And if I was paying in the neighborhood of $80K to go sailing, you’d better believe the chef is going to make what I want to eat. At least he doesn’t get visibly pissed off at her.

Captain Glenn raises the sails, which always impresses the guests. Again, at this price point, I should get a sail to take home. As usual, things go flying. We see a dolphin! In Gary’s interview, he says he realizes Emma doesn’t have as much experience as he thought, but he wants to be a captain one day, and that means training people under any circumstances, so he’s down for it.  in Keith’s interview, he says Danni is attractive, but in a work environment, you can banter, but there are lines you can’t cross. Ha-ha-ha! Another good luck with that.

It’s leather and lace night, and the décor is black and silver, with a whip decorating the table. There’s already confusion in the galley, and Cloyce wonders if something was counted wrong. The guest who wants a medium steak gets a well done and I blame the guest who wanted it well done in the first place. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, Daisy took specific orders, when they had a conversation about that. In Daisy’s interview, she says, this is bullsh*t. She takes the guests orders, he cooks it, puts it on a plate, and sends it out. Cloyce guesses he’s just an idiot, and in Glenn’s interview, he says he’s worried.

This season, Daisy and Gary are at odds; there’s a lot of drinking; and there’s a crash. Hopefully not after the drinking.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Curtis hoists himself into bed, when Portia asks if he wants some company.

Tracy says, blackmail is a harsh word, and Lois says, but that’s exactly what Tracy did to get Lois’s daughter to do what she wanted. Tracy says she prefers strongly suggested, but clearly that’s a moral shortcoming. Lois says she doesn’t think moral shortcoming even begins to cover it. How about epic fail as a grandmother? Is this how Tracy treats her granddaughter? Tracy says, Brook came to her for help, and she gave it to her, but Lois says, Tracy didn’t help Brook; she took advantage of her. And now Tracy has to answer to her.

In bed with Sonny, Nina says she likes them wearing their wedding bands. It makes it more official. He says he doesn’t think a big wedding would have been as special, and she agrees. She loved their intimate wedding. No stress, just love. She thanks him, not just for the wedding, but for everything. He made her perfectly happy. He says, yes, she’s perfect, and kisses her.

Kristina says she still can’t believe Blaze is in Puerto Rico, and Blaze says, well, believe it. Kristina can thank her abuela. Kristina says, thank you, abuela. She’d love to meet her. Blaze says, Kristina would love her. She’s a force of nature. Kristina says, that’s where Blaze gets it from, and Blaze says, her abuela is five feet tall and a hundred pounds, but that lady is a fireball. Kristina suggests they raise a glass to her and asks, how about a frozen margarita? Blaze says she’d love one.

As they walk down the hall, Deanna tells Austin, white male, 41, two GSWs to the back. The paramedics think the shots might have missed his spine. He’s been in and out of consciousness. They go into a room, and Austin sees that it’s Mason.

Carly walks in the door and calls for Josslyn. She says she got here as soon as she could, and asks Josslyn, what’s wrong? Before Josslyn can answer, there’s a knock at the door, and Carly opens it to a disheveled Ava with Dex and Dante. Carly asks if she’s okay and Ava says she will be once she sees her daughter. Is Avery all right?

Sam goes into Drew’s room and asks if he’s up for a visitor. He says, of course (🍷) he is. He’s always glad to see her. He knows he told her that he didn’t want Scout to see him in the hospital, but is there any chance she ignored that and brought that beautiful girl here with her? She says, Scout is at a sleepover, and he says, let him guess; she’s at the Qs getting in some dog time. Sam says, he guessed right. She can’t get enough of Annabelle II, but – Sam puts a gift bag on the tray – Scout sent her here with a little gift. She takes out a plaque and says, check that out. He says, will you look at that, and we see it’s an award to Scout for Outstanding Swimmer.

Josslyn tells Ava that Avery is perfectly fine. She’s asleep in her room upstairs and Pilar is with her. Ava says, thank God, and Josslyn says she figured it was better that Avery slept here than the police station. Ava thanks Josslyn and goes upstairs to see Avery. Carly asks Josslyn, what the hell is going on? and Dante says, they just came from the police station where Ava made her statement. Carly says, statement for what? and Dante says, it’s a long story, but Ava was abducted a couple nights ago and tonight, Joss and Dex rescued her. Dex says, they can’t take all the credit; there was a major assist from Dante. Carly asks if Josslyn is okay, and Josslyn says she’s perfectly fine. She was just at the police station with Avery and Pilar. Dex and Dante were the ones actually doing the rescuing. Carly says, this is crazy. Ava was abducted? Dante says, by Mason Gatlin.

Austin asks Deanna to get Dr. Larson for him. This patient is his cousin; he can’t take the lead. She says, right away, and leaves. Austin closes the door and asks if Mason can hear him. He’s in the hospital and Austin needs him to wake up. Mason’s eyes flutter open, and Austin says, where’s Ava?

Nina tells Sonny, it’s so peaceful here, so quiet. It’s like an oasis of tranquility. You’d never guess there was a casino on this island. He says, that’s because of the ocean. You can hear the waves and breeze going through the palm trees. The only thing better than that is sharing it with her. She says, he has such a handsome face and he’s so relaxed. She hasn’t seen him this relaxed since Nixon Falls. It’s nice to see him unwind. He’s been very stressed lately. He says, there was a situation he let go way too long, but when he gets back, he’s going to handle it.

As Kristina pours the drinks, she tells Blaze that the secret is using tequila aged in oak barrels. Blaze says, Kristina knows her stuff. She’s impressed. Kristina says, her mother wasn’t. She was less than thrilled with Kristina’s decision to become a bartender. Blaze says, first of all, there’s nothing wrong with bartending, and secondly, Kristina is doing so much more. She not only manages Charlie’s, she’s getting that youth center off the ground. Kristina says, her mother has finally made peace with her choices and come to respect her position at Charlie’s and the youth center. Why are they talking about her mother? What do they toast to? Blaze says, to her, the new Face of Deception, and they clink glasses.

Tracy tells Lois to get off her high horse. Brook is an adult, she got herself into trouble, and Brook came to her for a favor to get her out of it. Lois says, and Tracy thought blackmail was the way to do it? How could she? Tracy says she made it perfectly clear that favors come at a cost. Brook agreed to the deal and went into it with her eyes open. Lois says, Tracy forced her daughter to commit intellectual property fraud. She stole design information from Deception, a company her friends owned. She betrayed them. That’s not Tracy calling in a favor; that’s called extortion. Tracy says, potato, potahto. Brook got what she wanted. It’s only fair that Tracy should get what she wanted. End of story.

Curtis says, sure, and Portia gets into bed next to him. She says, dinner was nice, right? It was so lovely of Stella to take them out to celebrate. He says, Portia was promoted to Co-Chief of Staff. That’s definitely something worth celebrating. Portia says, hopefully, there will be many more happy occasions to come. One she can see right now, where they’ll have a big party – at The Savoy, of course (🍷) – is Trina’s graduation. He suggests they not get ahead of themselves. That’s still two years away. (I’m glad he said that. I thought I lost time or something.) She says, but time is going to fly by. He knows how things go, and he knows what a planner she is. It’s never too early to start thinking about the details. They’ll have N’neka come up with a specialty drink, something really cute, like the Trina Twist. They laugh, and she says, and they’ll have a DJ, not a band, because Trina’s going to want to dance all night long. Curtis says, yeah, and he won’t be able to dance with his daughter.🍼He’ll just be watching from the sidelines, so he guesses he’s got to get used to that view.

Tracy tells Lois, Brook brought this on herself. Chase had an opportunity to get his job back, and Brook dragged her feet. Lois asks what she’s talking about, and Tracy says, Brook was asked to write a testimonial about Chase’s sterling character, but she kept putting it off. Why? Because she was so busy managing his fledgling music career, but really, she just wanted him by her side. She acted out of pure selfishness. Lois says, and that she got from Tracy.

Portia says she knows how difficult this must be for Curtis, but he says he doesn’t think she does. She says, but she’s here for him. She puts her hand on his shoulder, and says, please don’t shut her out. He says, just stop, and she says she misses him. She misses their closeness. He says he just can’t. He told her the other day that he can’t show her love the way he used to. She says, yes, and she told him that she’d be there for him, and that’s what she’s trying to do. She’s trying to show him that, yes, their love might look different than the way it used to, but they can still connect with one another. They can connect physically. He says, she’s not hearing him. Even if he could do… this, he’s just not ready.

Kristina says, Blaze is really going to be the new Face of Deception? That’s huge. Maybe they should be switching to champagne. Blaze says, don’t pop the cork yet. She hasn’t even accepted the offer. She’s got to think about it. She doesn’t love the idea of giving up what’s left of her privacy, and she’s not sure she should split her focus. Kristina says, Blaze seems like a woman who’s capable of anything, and Blaze says, she’s at a point where she finally has control of her career, and she refuses to be obligated to anyone ever again.

Sam says, that is from the swim team awards banquet, and Drew says, that sounds pretty cool, but she says, it wasn’t actually. It was held in a gym, and they served corndogs and cupcakes. He laughs and says, it sounds pretty perfect for him right now. He wishes he could have been there. He’s so proud of Scout. He misses being at her meets and cheering her on from the bleachers. She asks what he’s talking about. He’d be the one running alongside her, saying, go, Scout. He says he’s probably embarrassed her a little bit, but Sam says, no. She loves her daddy. She was able to be there for Scout, and he was there in spirit. Scout did say she won this specifically for him. So when she dropped Scout off at the Qs, she wanted to bring it right over. He thanks her, and says, tell Scout that she’s got to take really good care of it; keep it safe. For him, for when he gets out. Because what he’s going to do is hang it up on his wall at the office and brag about her to everybody that comes in. And tell her that he loves her. Sam says she will.

Dex says, Spinelli was able to get the license plate of the car Mason was driving, and Carly says, Spinelli was involved in this too? Dante says, he was a big help actually, and Dex says, he tracked the car turning on County Road 21; said there was nothing out there except cliffs overlooking the river. Dante says, it’s a desolate area. It’s not where you want to be with a maniac like Gatlin. Dex says he saw Mason’s car on the side of the road, and just as he pulled up, Mason dragged Ava out of the car and was pulling her toward the cliff. Carly says, she could have been killed, and Dex says, then he pulled a gun and started shooting. He was able to tackle Mason, but they struggled, and Mason was about to push him off the cliff, but Dante showed up. Josslyn says, thank God. He could have died tonight. She puts her arms around him, and he holds her.

Kristina asks if Blaze always wanted to be on stage, and Blaze says, absolutely. She dreamed of being a megastar. Fill up stadiums like Beyonce and make headlines every time a new song dropped. Kristina says, wow. It kind of seems like she’s on her way. Blaze says, but she still wants to live her life and have privacy and be able to date who she wants without it being a tabloid headline, but the more popular she gets, the more impossible it becomes.

Nina asks if Sonny will do her a favor, and he says he already gave her what she wanted. What’s the problem? She says, yes, he did, but she can be really greedy when it comes to her handsome husband. He asks if she wants him to buy her a sailboat for the island and call it the Nina Star, and she says she’s not opposed to that idea, but no. Not anything material. She wants him. He says, you already have me, Mrs. Corinthos, but she says, no. She means she wants him to forget about all the problems and stresses he has and wants him to forget all his issues and keep them in Port Charles. Can he just be here in the moment with her while they’re on their honeymoon? Can he just love her? He says, yeah, and they get busy.

Ava comes downstairs in a robe and asks if Dante is still here, but Carly says, he had to get back to the station. Dex says, Dante told him to remind her about her clothes. Someone’s going to come by and collect them for DNA evidence. She says she left them in the guestroom. Dante probably wanted to find out about Mason’s status. With any luck, his bullets killed Mason. Carly says she knows Ava had a really rough time tonight. She’s sure seeing Avery made her feel better. Ava says, yeah. She was asleep of course (🍷). She didn’t wake her. She just sat by her and pet her beautiful face. Josslyn says, she didn’t know anything was going on, and Ava thanks her for that. Her biggest fear was that they would come after Avery, and she’s all Ava could think about when Mason was holding her in that basement. Carly says, they’d do anything to keep her safe. Sonny has posted more guards outside; the grounds are completely secure. Ava says she appreciates that, and Carly says she needs to get back to the hospital to be with Drew, but she doesn’t want to leave Josslyn. Dex says he’ll take care of her, and Josslyn says she’s fine. Go. She and Carly hug, and Carly says, Ava is welcome to stay the night here. She thinks it would make Avery really happy to wake up and see her. Ava says, that’s so nice, and thanks her. Carly says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Josslyn says she almost forgot, but she has something of Ava’s that she found at Windymere and thinks Ava is going to need it.

Dr. Larson says, Mr. Gatlin seems stable enough for surgery, and tells Deanna to get him prepped and ready for the OR. He tells Mason that he’s a lucky man. X-rays show the bullets didn’t pierce the spine. Austin asks if he can have a moment with his cousin before he goes to surgery, and the doctor says, no problem. He leaves, and Mason says, wish him luck, but Austin says, where’s Ava? Mason says he has no idea.

Dante approaches the door to Mason’s room, but as he’s about to go in, Jordan tells him, don’t go into that room and stay away from the patient.

Tracy tells Lois that she’s beginning to think maybe Brook hasn’t been exactly forthcoming about her departure from Deception. She wonders if Brook is concerned about not living up to Lois’s high standards of honesty and integrity. Lois says she would never judge her daughter. Love makes you do crazy things, and Brook learned from her mistakes, but that still doesn’t excuse what Tracy did. She used Lois’s daughter to get what she wanted. And for what? A cosmetics company? What did she want? Free night cream? She went after Deception to satisfy her own greed. Tracy says, she couldn’t be more wrong. She got that company for Brook.

Curtis says, when Portia came to visit him at the hospital, he couldn’t handle it. He lashed out and said the most awful things to her, and he never wants to push her away like that again. This is not that. This is different. She says, yes, he pushed her away before. She was upset, but she understood, and she understands now. She’s trying. She knows this is new. This is so raw. But he’s home and they’re going to have to find a way back to each other. But he’s going to have to let her in; he’s going to have to let her love him. He says, but he can’t love her that way. The truth is, psychologically, he doesn’t know if he ever will again. She says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about. She doesn’t even know how he can say something like that. She came on too strong tonight; she gets it. She’s sorry she did that. He says, she wanted to love her husband, and shouldn’t apologize for it, but she says, it’s too soon. They just need to take things slowly. They’ll take things slowly and eventually they’ll get there. He says, they’ll get there? When his wife knocks on his door for something he can’t give her, it makes him feel like less of a man.

Kristina says, it sounds like a lot to navigate, and Blaze says she’s sorry. She’s finally getting everything she ever wanted, and now she’s whining about it. Kristina says she doesn’t think Blaze is whining about it at all. To her, it just seems like Blaze is a woman who’s trying to figure out how much she wants to sacrifice to reach her goals. She should be able to live her dream without giving up her life. Blaze says she already knows one upside to being in the public eye, and Kristina says, go on. Blaze says, they never would have even met if Kristina hadn’t recognized her. So that’s definitely an argument in favor of fame.

Mason asks why Austin cares. Ava was with him when he got shot. Austin says, so she got away safely? and Mason says, last thing he remembers is Ava screaming when he got shot. Dr. Larson comes in and says, the surgeon’s ready, and asks Deanna to give him an IV.

Dante asks, what’s going on? and Jordan says, he needs to go home. He asks why he would go home. This is his suspect. He needs to question him. It’s his case. She says, not anymore, and he says he doesn’t mean any disrespect, but she’s not the Commissioner anymore; she’s Deputy Mayor. She says, the Police Commissioner was the one who called her. Mac has been keeping busy trying to keep the Pautuck PD off his back. They’re not too happy with Dante showing up in their jurisdiction and taking matters into his own hands. He asks what she wanted him to do. This guy kidnapped Ava Jerome. He was going to kill her and Dex Heller. What was he supposed to do? Show up and say, sorry, guys, you’re out of my jurisdiction? She says she gets it, but they’re making a lot of noise. Hopefully this will blow over when the investigation exonerates him. He says, investigation? That is ridiculous. She says, he shot a civilian. This is standard procedure, and he knows it, so calm down. Until the investigation is over, he’s on administrative leave and he can’t be here. So go home. She walks away.

Josslyn gives Ava her phone, and says she’s sure it’s dead right now, but there’s a charger on the desk. Ava says she wasn’t able to grab it before Mason forced her out of the house, and thanks Josslyn, plugging it in. Not just for the phone. She’s very grateful for both of them. If it wasn’t for Dex, Mason would have thrown her over that cliff. She fought as hard as she could, but she couldn’t stop him. Dex says he knows it’s hard to talk about, but did Ava ever overhear Mason talking to his boss? Does she know who he was working for? She says, no. He just drove out there and he pulled over and said he was waiting for instructions. A couple of minutes later, his phone rang. Maybe his boss wasn’t happy with him. She doesn’t know, but Mason got angry. He started the engine and she thought, okay, this is it. He’s going to bring her home and let her go. Dex asks, what changed his mind? and she says she has no idea, but all of a sudden, he just snapped. He shut the car off and dragged her out of the backseat, and Dex knows the rest. Josslyn says, it looks like she needs this, handing Ava a drink. Ava thanks her and takes a sip. She thanks them both for everything.

Carly looks at Drew through the door window, and calls Sonny. He asks if everything is okay, and she says, no. She’s really sorry to bother him on his honeymoon. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, that dirtbag Mason Gatlin… He says, Austin’s cousin? and she says, he kidnapped Ava. Sonny sits up and says, what the hell? Carly says, she’s fine. Dex and Dante found her, but she’s shaken. She had Ava spend the night at her house so she could be with Avery. He asks if Avery is okay, and Carly says, she’s fine. She doesn’t know about anything that was going on, but Ava’s kidnapping isn’t the worst of it. He asks, what could be worse than that? and she says, Cyrus Renault. He’s out of prison.

Tracy says she tried to buy Deception legally. Lucy Coe wouldn’t budge, so it became a challenge, and she had to resort to drastic measures to get the company. Now she’s giving it to Brook, lock, stock, and barrel. Lois laughs and says, so Tracy is the hero of this story. She’s doing all this out of what? The goodness of her non-existent heart? No. She doesn’t buy it. Tracy doesn’t have an altruistic bone in her entire body. Tracy says she doesn’t care whether Lois buys it or not. She’s Brook’s grandmother and she’s going to provide for her. Because she doesn’t want Brook to waste her life on music, then have nothing to show for it, like Lois did. Lois says, Tracy doesn’t get to make those choices for Brook, but Tracy says, Brook will thank her. If she hadn’t stepped in, Lucy Coe would have left her as a glorified assistant. She has a future at that company and now she owns 51% of it. Lois says, so all this is done so Tracy gets that warm fuzzy feeling for helping others? and Tracy says, yes… and she gets her 1% of ELQ back. Lois says, oh-ho! That old story again? Really? Keep her 51%, because Brook isn’t going to want any part of it. Tracy says, we’ll see.

Portia says she knows how difficult this has to be for Curtis. And not to get clinical here, but the doctor said he should be able to function in that way. He says, this is not about medicine. This is not about a diagnosis. Every doctor in the world can tell him that he can still have sex, but he knows he can’t make love, and there’s a difference here. Just because he’s capable physically doesn’t mean he’s ready psychologically. His body may be working in that way, but his mind is nowhere near ready. She says he’s not ready yet, but he will be, and he says, who knows? She says she knows. She’s not giving up on him. This is the hardest thing he’s ever had to face in his entire life, and they’re going to get through it together. He says he doesn’t know if she can help him get past this. So much of who he is, is tied to his physical ability. He’s always been athletic. He’s always pushed himself to run a little faster, to hit the bag a little harder, to add more weights to the bar. So just knowing he’d be struggling to love his beautiful wife the way she deserves to be loved? It’s humiliating. It’s infuriating. And it’s tearing him apart on the inside. She says she’s not going to give up on him. She loves him. And he’s right. She doesn’t know what this means for him. Even if they never get to a place where they share a bed in the same sense that they used to, she’s not going anywhere. She loves him. So take his time and she’s going to be there.

Austin tells Jordan that he’s looking for some information. Mason Gatlin is his cousin and Austin’s very close with Ava Jerome. He’s hoping… Could she just tell him what happened tonight? She says she shouldn’t be giving him any information. This is an ongoing investigation, and they’re still trying to put the pieces together. He says, yeah, but he’s asking. Please? She says, Mr. Gatlin was charged with kidnapping Miss Jerome and two counts of attempted murder. He was shot by an officer while attempting to murder someone. Austin asks if Ava was hurt, and she says, from what she understands, Ava was badly shaken, but unharmed. He thanks her, and walks away. He makes a call and says, come on, Ava. Pick up.

Ava’s phone rings and she sees it’s Austin, but ignores the call.

Josslyn says, Dex is a real hero, but he says he can’t take all the credit. Dante was the one who took down Mason. She says, yes, and Dex is actually the one who stopped Ava from going over a cliff. Which makes her wonder, how close did he come to going over himself?

Sam is asleep when Dante comes into the bedroom. He takes her magazine out of her hands and takes her glasses off. She opens her eyes, and he says, sorry. She says, don’t be sorry. She tried to stay up, but she fell asleep. She was so exhausted. He says, that’s okay. He kind of wants to put this day behind him. She asks if something happened, and he says, it’s kind of a long story. He’s been placed on administrative leave. He shot someone tonight and they might not make it. He gets in bed, and they cuddle.

Sonny says, son of a bitch, and Carly asks what he thinks happened. He says he doesn’t know, but he’s going to fly back home first thing in the morning. He’s got to go. He’s got to make some calls. She says, let her know what he finds out, and he says, will do. Nina asks, what’s going on? and Sonny says, of course (🍷). It was him all along. He jumps out of bed, and she says, who?

Curtis says he’s just not sure how long it will take him to get there or if he’ll get there, and Portia asks if he remembers when she told him that he didn’t know the kind of woman he married. This woman right here, she’s stubborn. But she’s also very patient. He sighs and says, it’s a lot to put up with, but she says she’s not putting up with anything. She loves him and knows how hard it must have been to be that vulnerable with her. But him opening up, sharing his insecurities, that made her feel that much closer to him. Maybe she did come in here for some physical lovin’, but she thinks they shared something just as deep. He’s letting her in and that’s a start. She kisses him and gets out of bed, but he takes her hand and says, wait. He loves her too. She says she knows he does, and leaves.

Jordan says, maybe Austin can help her. Can he think of any reason Mason would want to abduct Ava Jerome? Austin says, is she kidding? No. His cousin has always been a wild card. He has no idea why Mason does the things that he does, and Austin couldn’t speak to any of his motivations, ever. Excuse him. He has a patient he should probably check on. He jets, and Jordan says, goodnight, doctor.

Ava has one missed call and one message from Austin. She looks at the phone, but does nothing.

Dex says, Mason was tough to take down, and Josslyn says, he could have killed Dex. He says he was fighting with everything he had. At some point, when they were wrestling on the ground, he hit his head and he was dazed, so Mason had an advantage. He was losing ground a few feet from the cliff. If Dante hadn’t shown up, Mason would have pushed him over. She says, thank God for Dante, and he says, thank God for her. She’s the one who found Dante at the police station after Spinelli gave her his last known location. The fact that he’s still alive is totally on her. They kiss.

Sam says, besides Ava, what did he want? and Dante says he doesn’t know. That’s what they’re trying to figure out. She asks if Avery is okay, and he says, she’s fine. She wasn’t involved and doesn’t know what went down. She asks if he told Sonny, and he says, Carly’s doing that, which he’s glad about, because Sonny’s not going to be too happy. Sam snuggles against him.

Carly goes in to see Drew, and he says, she’s back. But it’s so late. She says she knows. She just wanted to watch him sleep. He says he thinks they can do better than that and pats the bed. She gets in with him and there’s more cuddling and snuggling.

Sonny comes to the lobby, where Kristina and Blaze are drinking, and Kristina gives him a hug. She says, this is her good friend Blaze, and he says, yeah. She’s a singer. Blaze says, he actually knows her music? and he says, no. He can’t lie, but his grandson Rocco watches her videos and listens to her music. Blaze says, Dante mentioned that. She’s flattered. And she hears congratulations are in order. Kristina says he just got married. He says, yeah. It was very fantastic, intimate, with the family, just the way he likes it. Kristina asks if he wants a drink, but he says, no. Something came up. She asks, what’s going on? Is everyone okay? He says, yeah, but they’re going to have to fly home first thing in the morning. There’s some important business he has to take care of.

Lois tells Tracy that she knows her daughter. And she’s not going to want anything to do with a company built on lies and betrayal. Tracy says, Brook may surprise Lois. She does have Quartermaine genes after all. Lois says, no. She’s not going to give up her integrity over a company. Tracys says, news flash. She already has. Maybe she’s a little more like her grandmother than Lois cares to admit, and guess what? Lois has to live with it. Tracy walks out.

Tomorrow, Anna says, if he makes another move, she’ll be ready; Finn suggests he and Elizabeth spend the weekend together; TJ tells Portia that someone was here last night, and she has a right to know; and Trina tells Spencer that the fantasy he and Esme have has gone too far.

Southern Charm – Reunion – Part 2

So who would even sleep with Shep at this point? You don’t know where it’s been.

We see everyone in their dressing rooms on break, and Taylor says that Shep has never worked, so it’s no surprise that he won’t work on a relationship. Like Kim Kardashian said, get off your ass and go to work. Apparently, she didn’t hear about all the blowback from that remark. Andy says, for the first time, he feels sorry for Shep, and Shep says he feels sorry for himself. No surprise there either. Lamar and Little visit with Leva while she eats lunch. She says she feels squished on the end of the couch, trying to sit as far away from Kathryn as possible. Kathryn says, f*** Leva. She’s going out to represent the underdog. Austen, Craig, and Venita shotgun a beer, while Madison has some other alcoholic beverage, saying, it’s the only way she’s getting through this.

When they return, Venita is under the microscope next. Andy says, she knows her way around fashion, but the same can’t be said about how she navigates her friendships. She says she’s channeling Barbie tonight, which is the new word for wearing as much pink as possible. Andy asks why there isn’t discussion about Venita’s love life, and she says she doesn’t like talking about it. The last relationship she had, he was mentally abusive, and she paid for everything. Madison says she knew him, but didn’t know about the money or she would have asked Venita if she was out of her mind. Andy asks how Venita got out, and Venita says, he cheated on her with a woman who DM’d her on Instagram. On top of it, she was 60. This really doesn’t give us a full picture, since we don’t know how old he is and what kind of 60 the other woman is. Andy says, Venita’s mom got a lot of love on Twitter, and we flash back to Vi saying she wanted to protect Venita from the drama between her and Venita’s father. Venita chokes up, and says, it was the first time her mom opened up about her dad. She mimics her mom, who will do whatever it takes present a glass house; she doesn’t share. Andy moves on to the garden party, where Venita asked if Kathryn was raising her kids to be racially insensitive. A viewer thinks it’s a valid question, but Kathryn says, that’s not how it was presented, and we flash back to that. Venita says she asked Kathryn if she raised her kids based on what she’d done in the past, and Leva says, she felt bad for Kathryn; as a mom, it was severe. But she also felt bad for Venita, since she’s not good with her presentation; it just came out. Andy says, Craig and Venita formed a bond, and Craig says he appreciated that Venita had his back when he felt ganged up on. We flash back to the dinner where Venita suggested they let Craig air his feelings, and she says she wanted him to get his feelings out. Naomie says, her feelings were hurt, and she reacted. Andy asks if they’re good now, and Naomie tells him, they said what they felt, and Venita apologized. What more can she ask for? He says, Venita and Madison’s friendship didn’t survive the season, and Madison says she was angry because Venita threw her under the bus. Venita says she did her best to apologize, and Madison says, in a text; she could have called. Venita says she tried, but Madison hung up on her. Ignoring this, Madison says she was Venita’s biggest fan, and Leva says, her too. Madison says, it came out of left field, and she would have expected it from anyone else in the group, except for Venita. Venita asks how she talked sh*t about Madison, and Madison asks if they’re watching the same show. We flash back to Venita’s interview, when she said Madison had snatched the phone out of her hand. Madison says, it was a lie, and asks if anyone is going to speak up for her. Leva says, that’s what Venita told her, and Madison says, that’s what Venita told everyone. Andy says, they’re not going to resolve this now, and asks what Venita’s biggest regret is. She says, not being more of herself, and Craig says, it’s the biggest lesson she’ll learn. Andy says, the birds, and the bees, and the 1-2-3’s, and Kathryn says, it’s easy, right?

There’s a little break, and some milling around. Andy says, everyone loves a comeback, and Naomie kept the viewers coming back for more. A viewer asks, what was worse, Naomie coming back to Charleston with her tail between her legs, or facing the cast she turned her back on? Ouch. Kathryn tells Naomie that she’d said negative things about them, and what the show is about, but Naomie says she thinks it’s more personal to Kathryn. Kathryn says, it hurt her. She reached out when Naomie’s father passed away, then Naomie posted on Instagram that Kathryn should be ashamed about spreading a rumor about Cameran. Craig says, Naomie called him, and asked if he had a problem with her coming back, but he said he was all for it. Naomie says she spoke with the people who mattered, and Kathryn wasn’t one of those people. Andy says, there was a lot of feedback about Naomie and Craig hooking up in Vegan, and we flash back to Craig telling Shep and Austin about it. Andy says, Craig was there at a bachelor party… and Naomie says she was there with friends; it was totally unrelated. Andy asks if they did the walk of shame or had breakfast in the morning, and Naomie says, they saw Leva. Craig delayed his arrival, and they thought they were being slick, but Leva knew. Andy says, what about Paige? and Craig says, it was prior to them weren’t exclusive; Paige was still seeing Andrea. Andy says, the most shocking revelation was Naomie and Whitney hooking up, and I think, oh yeah, Whitney’s not here. I don’t think he ever comes to these. Andy asks, who made the first move? and Naomie says, they had a friendly dinner. Shep says, Whitney told him that Naomie grabbed his hand, and suggested they go to another bar. Andy asks if Naomie had been hiding feelings for Whitney, and she says, there was more than what they saw on the show. Whitney had lost his dad over the summer, and they started talking. It was a slow build, and they’re still great friends, but it was never more than a friendship that turned for a moment. Craig says he thinks Whitney likes her, and Andy asks, how many times she had to sneak out of Patricia’s house. Naomie says, she wished she ran into Patricia, but Patricia sleeps late, and Naomie never saw her. Shep says, Whitney told him in private, but he kept it a secret. Whitney is frightened about his personal business being made public. Kathryn says, it hurt her that when she and Whitney had been together, he told her, don’t say anything, and got mad when she did. We flash back to that, and she says, but he was totally cool with him and Naomie being on camera. It was embarrassing, like she’s not good enough. Naomie says, it could be the Thomas of it all. Andy asks Craig what surprised him most by it, and Craig says he thought it was great. Andy says, he looked like he was bothered, and Craig says, it was absolutely shocking. Olivia reminds him that he literally said, f*** you, to Whitney, and Andy says, Craig claimed Whitney was breaking bro code. Craig says, you don’t hook up with friends’ exes, and Andy suggests maybe Craig is still in love with Naomie.

After the commercial break, Craig says he ripped his pants, and Kathryn says, he doesn’t wear underwear, but he says he does when they do stuff like this. Andy asks, what’s up with that? and Craig says he wore boxers in high school, and they were uncomfortable. I have to admit, I’ve always wondered how any man can wear a pair of loose-ish shorts under his pants and feel good about it. Andy suggests he try briefs, and Craig says, that’s what he has on now. No underwear is freeing. Andy says, that’s why they call it free-balling, and Craig says, it freaks Austen out.  Andy says, it’s amazing the opinions Austen has about Craig’s privates. He asks about the pillow business, and wonders if Craig will be adding other stores after he opened one in Charleston. Craig says, they just got a deal with Kroger, and I think, pillows in a grocery store? Well, I did get my TV from Shoprite. Andy reads a tweet that says, Shep has been jealous of Craig since Craig won the bachelor auction in Season 2, and we flash back to that. Shep says, it was rigged, and Austen says, Shep just likes to give Craig sh*t. Shep says, he and Craig started on the show together, and Craig says, Shep is supportive at times, but they’ve spent months without speaking; Shep triggers him, especially if Whitney is involved. We flash back to them dragging Craig at the campfire, and Andy says, he’s never seen Craig more blackout than in St. Simons. We flash back to Craig having shots and acting like an a-hole, and Andy asks if he remembers wrestling Austen to the ground. Naomie says, Craig tried to pay the Uber driver with leaves, and I literally burst out laughing, and wish they’d gotten that on camera. Craig says, when he stopped taking Adderall, he replaced it with Jager (blech), and Andy says, he couldn’t use chardonnay? Craig says he’s trying to temper his drinking overall, and switching gears, Andy says, the narrative Craig was spreading was that Naomie was obsessed with him. Craig says, if it was Paige in the same situation, and she went to talk privately with an ex, in his head, they’d be doing inappropriate things. What is wrong with this guy? Andy says, viewers speculated that he was still in love with Naomie, and he says, Naomie can still push his buttons. Naomie says she’s doing her best not to, and Andy says, Paige convinced Craig to invite Naomie to his party. Why did he make the effort, then treat her like an afterthought? Leva says, they were just trying to get a table, and Andy asks why there was no seating chart? Craig says, he was damned if he did, and damned if he didn’t. If he’d made a chart, he’d be telling everyone where he wanted them to sit. Andy asks how not making one worked out, and Craig says, it worked for everyone except Leva and Naomie. Then Leva made the party about herself. Leva asks if she hasn’t been supportive of Craig. At the party, he went from zero to a hundred. Naomie says, half the people were sitting, and there was no space for them, and Craig says, Leva came in hot, then put his partners in an awkward spot. Kathryn says, it seemed like Leva was trying to take over, and Leva says, take over what? Andy asks if Craig can own that his behavior was terrible, and Craig says, he wishes he’d handled it better, but it is what it is. Andy says, merry Christmas, but I have no idea why.

Andy says, Leva is the mom of the group, but some wondered if she’d crossed the line from mothering to meddling. We find out she and Lamar are talking about having another baby, and see a clip from her new show, Southern Hospitality. She says, she’s the boss, so the dynamic is different, and a viewer asks where she gets off telling her friends what to do. Leva admits she’s so bossy, and Austen says, now he understand the phrase, advise to my demise. Andy asks, who’s bossier, Madison or Leva? and Madison says, they don’t want to go there, but Leva knows to leave her out of it in the future. Andy reads a tweet that asks if there’s ever been a fight Leva hasn’t inserted herself in, and Andy wonders how the garden party would have gone differently, if Leva hadn’t encourage the guests to air their differences, and Leva says, her husband always tells her to stay out of it. She genuinely thought she was being helpful in regard to Madison. Andy says, after the party, there seemed to be a split in the group, and Leva unfollowed some people. He asks for an unfollowed show of hands, and it’s nearly everyone. Leva says, she expected Austen to tell Craig that he shouldn’t speak to her that way, and the girls were snarky about it. She was offended and hurt, and didn’t want to see their faces. I totally get that.

Andy says, Little Craig’s dad was in the doghouse, and a viewer asks why Shep is allergic to birth control if he doesn’t want children. Shep has no answer for this, but says he wants kids one day. Taylor says, he’s 43, and Andy says he was 50. Shep says, he and Taylor talked about marriage and children, and Taylor says, and he failed. Why does he accept failure? Shep says he’s working on himself, and a viewer asks if Taylor thought Shep was being honest when he’d said he just had a kiss in a stairwell. Taylor says, yes, but methinks Shep’s face says, no. Austen says, Taylor called him and asked him to be straight with her, and Craig whines that they were trying to make it seem like it was okay, when everything was falling apart. Andy asks what Taylor’s parents think of Shep, especially after he called her an idiot, and she says, they still love him. Andy tells Shep, it was an egg toss, and Shep says, he’s fully aware of what he did wrong. He speaks to everybody that way. Taylor says, he degrades his parents, and the next morning, his parents are telling him they love him. Shep pretends he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and she says, he’ll tell his parents, f*** you, and then in the morning, he’s sweet. Andy asks what Shep thought when he watched the show, but Shep says he didn’t watch it. Taylor says, he needs to watch the show so he corrects his behavior. Nobody in his life holds him accountable; name one person who does. Shep says, he’s not playing this game with her, and she says, because he can’t think of anyone. They all say, it’s just Shep. He lays the path, and they follow it, even his parents. Shep says, she doesn’t have to deal with him anymore; he set her free. Taylor says, she knows his potential. What the f*** is he doing with his life? He says he’s trying figure that out, and she says, in other women’s pants? She saw his true heart, but he looked at her as just another number. He says, that’s ridiculous, and she says, he allegedly slept with over 300 women. Why is he using women? Why did he use her? He says he didn’t, and she says, she was just the whore who stuck around the longest. Andy says, all the girls are crying, and Leva says she feels for Taylor. Taylor loves Shep, and Leva thinks Shep loves her too, but doesn’t treat her like he does. Taylor asks what he was looking for in Texas, and does he even know her name? Andy says, with all due, they’d broken up, but she says, it doesn’t matter. Shep just wants to use women to masturbate; it doesn’t matter who they are. Andy asks why she cares if it’s over, and she says she loves him. Andy asks if Shep loves Taylor, and Shep says he always will. Andy asks if he’s in love with her, and he says, not right now.

Shep mumbles that Taylor went after his mom and dad; she crossed the line. I know he doesn’t watch the show, but he is in the same room, isn’t he? Idiot. Andy asks if Shep had been feeling doubts, and Madison says, an atheist and a Bible beater; what did they expect. Shep says, their different views were definitely a sticking point, and Andy asks why he convinced Taylor to quit her job and travel with him? Shep says he wanted to show her the world, and we flash back to him presenting this idea. Andy asks if something happened on the trip that accelerated the break-up, and Shep says, they were living well in Venice. They went to a Michelin Star restaurant, and after dinner, he found Taylor crying. She said she didn’t think they saw the world in the same way, and maybe they didn’t belong together. He was gobsmacked. Taylor says she doesn’t regret their time traveling together, but when she traveled overseas before, she slept in a third-world country, on a dirt floor in a tent. It was culture shock. Shep paid for everything, and she doesn’t want him to pay her way. Andy says, it would be a lot of people’s fantasy, and Shep says, it was a testament to her. He knows people who would have ordered Dom Perignon, and not cared. And he would have normally looked for the exit as soon as they didn’t see eye to eye. Taylor says, he found his exit, and Andy asks about Shep getting caught trying to kiss an employee of Leva’s. Shep says, he doesn’t remember it, and Craig says, Shep was already drunk when he got to the bar. He saw what was going on, called Taylor, and she dragged him home. Taylor says, later, the woman DM’d her, and said he’d been hitting on her hard. Craig says, right away, he could see Shep wasn’t there, and when he tried to kiss the woman, Craig told him, sit the f*** down, and forced him into a chair. Andy asks Taylor if that was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and she says, yeah. He asks Shep if there are any misconceptions he wants to clear up, and Shep says, he hopes one day that Taylor can appreciate their time together the way he does. Andy asks if Taylor has anything she regrets holding back, and she says she loves Shep immensely. He says he loves her too, and she says she hopes he finds stability and peace. He says he hopes the same for her, and Leva cries, saying, it’s sad. Craig says, they’ve had this before, and while it was different, it’s always sad.

Andy wants to give everyone an opportunity to clear the air. He asks Kathryn, who she wants to be in a better place with when she leaves, and she says, everyone, especially Leva. He asks if Madison and Olivia can let bygones be bygones, and Madison says she’s good. Olivia says she’s good too, but Andy says he doesn’t believe it. He asks if Austen can finally congratulate Madison on her engagement, and he does, adding that he wishes her and her husband the best. I don’t believe it. Andy asks Venita what friendships she wants to work on, and she says, Leva and Madison. She hopes they can be a unit again. He asks if there’s anyone Craig wants to squash a beef with, and Craig says, he has a lot of work to do on himself, but he’d like to be able to pop in to Republic for a drink. Leva says, he can always pop in for a drink, but if he wants to pop in for a drink with her, they need to talk first. They all laugh, saying, Leva will take his money any time, and Craig says, at least it’s a step forward.

Andy says, that’s a wrap on the season, and it’s time for champagne, in coupes, a homage to Patricia. For whatever reason, an actual toast doesn’t happen, and Craig asks Leva for a hug. She says, she’s always here for a hug, and he tells her that he loves her, and he’s going to work on himself. After Craig sits back down, Andy thanks the Charmers, and tells Craig that there’s a place he can show Austen his d*ck privately…

🦆 Ducking Out…

Stop in tomorrow, before you start whatever the weekend holds for you. Hopefully for soap, but definitely for tea, words to ponder, and music to enjoy. Until then, stay safe, stay securing treasure that can’t be stolen, and stay not hooking up with your friends’ exes. Apparently, it breaks bro code.

October 21, 2021 – Austin Decides Between Being a Doctor Or a Quartermaine, a Karen On the Runway & Skeletons

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly thanks Willow for bringing Wiley by, but she’s surprised Michael didn’t come. Willow says, he wanted to, but he had an important meeting this morning. Carly asks if Willow can stay for some coffee, and Willow says, it would actually be nice to talk. Carly asks, about anything in particular? and Willow says, Michael and Nina.

Nina and Phyllis walk into the Italian restaurant, and Nina says it’s great having her there. Phyllis says, eventually, she’s going to have to face Nixon Falls again, and figure out what life looks like without Lenny, but a few more days away couldn’t hurt. Nina asks if Phyllis is sure she doesn’t want to rebuild the Tan-O, but Phyllis says, the bar was her life with Lenny. She doesn’t have the heart to do it without him. Nina says, then why go back? Why doesn’t Phyllis stay in Port Charles, and let Nina help her?

At another table, Nikolas puts his fork down, and Ava says, not hungry? He says, just tired, and she says he was tossing and turning all night. He says he’s sorry if he kept her up, but she says, it’s okay. Spencer’s his son. Of course (🍷) Nikolas is worried sick about him. He says, they may not agree, but Spencer’s still just a kid, and he’s facing jail time, and she says, for some pretty terrible crimes. He says he knows. He’s not suggesting Spencer walk away with no consequences, it’s just that… She says, they offered him a way out. All he has to do is just take it.

Spencer is led into a courtroom, where Esme is waiting. She throws her arms around him, and asks if it was awful spending the night in jail. Did he get any sleep? He says, yes, and yes, but not much. She wonders if he shouldn’t take the deal, but he says there’s no way he’s going to be beholden to Ava. There has to be another solution. Public Defender Diaz runs in, saying, she was assigned to his case. Just give her one second to get up to speed. She sits down, and goes through some papers. She opens a folder and says, she thinks they have a real shot here. In all likelihood the judge will move to dismiss. Spencer says, that’s amazing news, and Diaz says, nobody actually saw him deface the garage, so it’s pretty open and shut. He says, garage? What is she talking about? and she says, Sparky Carraway, destruction of private property. He says, no, he’s Spencer Cassadine, harassment and criminal mischief. She says, oops, wrong file. One second. She dashes out again.

Michael tells Ned that he’s expecting a call from Candace about Austin’s lawsuit. He’ll let Ned know once he talks to her. Ned says, there might not be a lawsuit anymore, and Michael says, since when? Ned takes it Michael hasn’t heard about the Brook drama. Olivia walks in, and says she thought Ned was at the office, but Ned says he chose to work from home, and she says, she’ll leave him to it. She leaves, but he follows her, and says, wait. If they keep avoiding each other, how are they going to fix things? She says she needs space right now, and the doorbell rings. It’s Maxie, who asks if Brook is home. She needs to talk to Brook about Austin. Michael asks if anyone wants to fill him in on what Brook did, and Brook comes down the stairs. She says, nobody else did? She gave them their best shot at keeping Austin out of ELQ, and this family.

Austin is on the computer at the hospital reception desk, when Monica says, Dr. Gatlin-Holt. He says, don’t shoot. He knows he’s not supposed to be there, and won’t see any of his patients in person. He just wanted to make sure Miss Battelle was getting all of her fluids. Monica says, Dr. Chen is covering all his patients while he’s on suspension, and he says, suspension, right. All thanks to Brook Lyn’s games.

Esme says she’s sorry she couldn’t get Spencer a high profile attorney. She tried everything. Doc refuses to help, and she can’t get in touch with his grandmother. Her trust manager wouldn’t advance money when he found out what the charges were. Sonny walks in, and Spencer greets him, but when Sonny doesn’t return the greeting, he says, Sonny’s not going to help him, is he? Sonny says, he is, but Spencer’s not going to like how.

Esme say she’s grateful Sonny didn’t abandon Spence like everyone else, and Sonny says he needs a minute alone with Spencer. Spencer says she doesn’t have to go, but she says, talk to his uncle; she’ll be waiting outside. She tells Sonny, she’s so sorry for her part in the whole Nikolas and Ava taking Avery out of the country misunderstanding, and Sonny says, he’s very clear on what she tried to do. She says she was just trying to help, and leaves. Spencer says Sonny has the wrong idea about Esme, and he says, apparently, he had the wrong idea about Spencer. If Spencer wants to go after Ava, be his guest, but don’t use a child to do it, especially his child. Spencer says, it wasn’t him.

Monica brings Austin to her office, and says she read Brook’s allegations. He says, pretty sensational, doesn’t she think? and she asks if he’s saying Brook is lying. He says she’s manipulating him. She claims she’s concerned about Leo, which should have been his first clue, since she doesn’t care about anything but herself. Monica disagrees, and says, Brook has moments of selfishness, but who doesn’t? She cares very deeply for her family. He says, so deeply, set him up, and Monica says, loyalty is very big with the Quartermaines. Does she always agree with the way they display it? No, but there’s a definite us against them mindset. Austin asks if she’s included in all that.

Ava asks if Nikolas is positive he wants to do this, and he says, whether or not Spencer agrees to their conditions, placing her in charge of his trust sends a message that they’re a united front. She says, and she’s not going anywhere, and he says, not on his watch. She says, if she controls Spencer’s money, he can’t ignore her; he can’t be so disrespectful. He says, and he won’t be able to cave to Spencer, and she says, not that he would. He says he’d like to believe that he could stand firm, but he doesn’t trust himself. Part of the reason this is happening now is because of all the times he gave into Spencer when he was a child. She says she’s happy to play bad cop, but Spencer was adamant that he wouldn’t buckle. He says, this is happening whether Spencer likes or not. Spencer doesn’t get a choice about accepting Ava as his wife. If he refuses, he’s basically sending himself to jail. She says, Spencer knows the terms. If he can actively support their marriage, she won’t cooperate. She won’t testify against him, and the prosecution’s case is dead in the water. He says, which is extremely generous, given everything Spencer has put her through. He asks if she thinks Spencer will swallow his pride, and she says, for Spencer’s sake and his, she sure hopes so.

Sonny asks what Spencer means. He didn’t use Avery to scare Ava? Spencer says, he did; he just means he wasn’t himself. He was so focused on punishing Ava, he went too far. Sonny says, what are the two rules? and Spencer says, never threaten children or your family. Sonny says, Avery’s both, and Spencer says Sonny knows he’d never hurt Avery, but Sonny says he doesn’t care if it’s implied or real, Spencer crossed a line. Spencer says, he’s sorry, and Sonny says, all the allegations against him for supposed crimes he did, why does Spencer think he’s still standing a free man? Spencer says, Diane Miller? and Sonny says, no. He has a code that he sticks by, he lives by. When he goes after somebody, he makes sure he doesn’t get caught. Spencer is playing these little games, and got himself busted. Now he has to face the consequences.

Michael says, Brook tricked Austin into breaking his doctor/patient confidentiality. She turned him in, and now she’s threatening to take his medical license unless he drops the claim on ELQ. She says, yes, and she doesn’t know why she’s getting so much static over it. Ned says he definitely would have used a different tactic, and she says, a way less effective tactic. Maxie says she’s not going to tell Brook what to do… and Brook says, but Maxie’s about to tell her what to do? Maxie says, no, she’s going to give Brook her opinion, which is that Austin is a genuinely good guy, and he legitimately cares about Leo. Olivia says, wrong. Austin’s not a good guy, and his opinions about Leo are way off base. Would she like to get him out of the family? She would, but she’d prefer he’d been caught running his mouth about literally anyone other than her son. Now it’s going to become a big deal, and Leo is fine the way he is.  Maxie asks if it would be that bad if Austin got his share of the inheritance. From what she sees, it looks like there’s more than enough money to go around. Brook says, that’s not the point. Her great-grandfather purposely left Jimmy Lee Holt out of his will. It doesn’t matter if he was thinking about reconsidering. None of those thoughts ever made it into an official document. None of those thoughts were ever signed, filed, or probated, so Austin is going after money that isn’t his. To make things worse, he’s hiding behind some sob story about honoring the wishes of his late father, when all he cares about is getting those shares. She says, Michael is awfully quiet. What does he think?

Ava says she heard Nikolas on the phone this morning. Was he checking on Spencer? He says he must have second guessed himself a thousand times last night. He couldn’t stand the thought of Spencer in that cell, but he’s been coddled too long. Ava agrees, but also understands that raising a son who lost his mother is terribly complicated. He says, something he knows all too well, and she says, he just wants to give his son all the love he didn’t get from Laura as a child, right? He says he shouldn’t have translated it into giving Spencer everything he wanted, but he did, which gave Spencer the dangerous impression he’s the center of the universe. He has to do better, and with her by his side, he will. He’ll see her later. He jets, and she wonders where he’s going.

Austin tells Monica, correct him if he’s wrong, but she does seem a little different than the Quartermaines. More... He’s not sure the word for it is sane, and she laughs. She says, it’s taken years for her to find her place in that family. Not just as Alan’s wife, but as an individual. Because, let’s face it, the Quartermaines can be a huge pain in the butt. He says, he’s seen it many times, and she says, especially when it comes to ELQ; that company is really family in so many ways. He says his dad saw that. He always said he felt like a small town hick by comparison, but he was Edward’s son, and deserves to be recognized. If they want to play dirty, bring it on. She asks if his father wanted him to be in business as opposed to medicine, and he says, his father just wanted him to be happy. She says, is he? and he says, he was before all this drama and infighting. She says, then she has a question for him. If he knew how the Quartermaines operate, and didn’t like how they operate, why did he come knocking on their door?

Carly says, if Willow is concerned about Michael, she wants to know about it, and Willow says, she knows. But after all the pain and heartache Nina caused Carly’s family… Carly says, Willow’s family; she’s just as much a part of the family as anyone. Willow thanks her, and says she guesses she’s saying, she’ll understand if Carly doesn’t want to talk about Nina. Carly says, she doesn’t, but Nina’s not going anywhere, and she wants to know what’s going on. Is Nina hounding Michael about seeing Wiley? Are they afraid she’s going to do something? Willow says, actually, she’s more afraid of what Michael might do.

Michael thinks Brook used a smart strategy, and she says, thank you; finally someone who sees some reason. He says, Austin came at them, and she found where he was most vulnerable. It’s better than them just railing at the guy. Austin has a big ego. He gave his opinion on something he has no authority to give his opinion on. That’s his weakness, and Brook targeted it; he’s impressed. Brook says, gold star for her, and Olivia says, oh my God. She’s going to check on Leo. She leaves, and the doorbell rings. Michael says, he’ll get it.

Michael opens the door to a man we’ve never seen, who says he didn’t expect Michael to come to the door himself. Michael says, he doesn’t really stand on ceremony. He’s more interested in getting things done. The man says he likes the way Michael thinks. Nice to meet him. They shake hands, and Michael says, likewise, Mr. Sheridan. He thanks Sheridan for making the trip from Pennsylvania.

Phyllis tells Nina, she settled in Nixon Falls because it was Lenny’s home town. Everything there reminds her of him. Nina says, she gets it, but Port Charles has a lot to offer. Sonny is here, and Nina is sure he’d want her to stay too. Phyllis says she wasn’t going to bring him up, but now that Nina has, how did their talk go? Were they able to clear the air at all? Nina flashes back to Sonny coming to her office, and saying, she’s not going to be happy in Port Charles very long. Nina tells Phyllis, she knows exactly where she stands with Sonny.

Sonny says he cares enough about Spencer that he wants Spencer to learn his lesson. Spencer says he thinks he knows the lesson already, and Sonny says, Spencer’s dad was wrong in making Spencer think he was dead. Spencer can’t change that, but he can change how he moves forward. He has to stand up and decide who he wants to be. Spencer asks what Sonny means, and Sonny asks if he wants to be the guy who owns up to his mistakes, or the guy waiting for his father to write a check and be rescued? Spencer says he thought his dad would side with him. He thought his dad loved him enough that when push came to shove, he’d pick him over Ava, but he didn’t. Sonny says, that hurts right?

Sonny tells Spencer, it’s a terrible thing when a parent you love is addicted something, and chooses it over you. That’s what happened with Sonny’s dad – God rest his soul. His dad loved him a lot, but he’d walk away any time he could bet on the horses. He knows Nikolas isn’t a gambler, but he’s addicted to Ava. They think they’re in love. He knows it’s heartbreaking when you can’t count on your father, but it’s the reality Spencer is living in. He violated the code, and Sonny can’t bail him out; not this time. He starts to leave, and runs into Nikolas on his way in. Nikolas asks what Sonny did to Spencer, and Sonny says, he just made sure Spencer listened to some hard truths. Now it’s Nikolas’s turn. He leaves, and Spencer says he thought Nikolas gave up on him, but Nikolas asks why he’d be standing there if he gave up on Spencer. Spencer says, you tell me.

Sheridan says, as the DA of Lantano County, it’s not often he makes house calls in Port Charles. But when he heard about Michael’s potential and sizeable donation to his campaign… Michael says, he deemed it worth the trip, and Sheridan says he did. Tell him, what’s Michael’s interest in the Pennsylvania election? Michael suggests they talk in the den.

Ned says, for the record, he’ll be thrilled when Austin is out of their lives, but if he gets fired… Maxie says Ned is worried about Leo, and Ned says, yes. He’s worried the message that Leo might be on the spectrum will get drowned out. Then what? Olivia comes in, and says, then what what? He’s talking about Leo, isn’t he? This is what she hates. All this hush-hush secret conversations about the non-problem that is her son. Why can’t Ned hear her on this? He says he hears her; he just doesn’t agree. She says she thinks it’s time they talk divorce, and he says, what? The doorbell rings, and Olivia opens the door to Austen. She says, and she thought the day couldn’t get worse. He walks in, says hi to Maxie, and tells Brook that he has an answer for her.

Willow says, Michael is justifiably worried that Nina will want to be in Wiley’s life, and Carly says, she will. Willow says, maybe… Probably, but she hasn’t come to them yet. Why provoke the fight until they absolutely have to? Carly asks how Michael feels, and Willow says, they talked it over. He said he was on the same page, but she doesn’t know. She thinks he might be holding back. She thinks in his heart of hearts, he wants to take action, and make Nina pay. Carly says, as he should, and Willow says she doesn’t disagree. She’s furious with Nina. Part of her wants to haul off and slap her for showing up at the house for a last visit with Wiley. Carly says, she would have loved have seen that, and Willow says, all the lies she told. How she was there at Sonny’s funeral, watching everyone grieve. It was hateful, but what good does it do to incite a big, ugly battle that won’t help anyone? Carly says, here’s the thing. Just because Nina hasn’t done anything yet, doesn’t mean she won’t.

Phyllis says, Port Charles is lovely, but what would she do there? and Nina suggests a job at the hospital, but Phyllis says she enjoys being her own boss too much. Ava comes over to the table, and introduces herself, saying, it’s nice to finally meet Phyllis. She sits, and says, there’s not many people who can boss Sonny Corinthos around. She can’t imagine him as a busboy. Nina says, bartender, and Phyllis says, Mike… Sonny was more than a bartender; he was her friend. Nina says, he still is, and Ava says, he’s lucky to have Phyllis. She’s just fascinated with this whole other life in Nixon Falls… Nina says, Ava owns the gallery here, and Charlie’s Pub, and Ava says, the gallery anyway. Nina asks what she means, and Ava says, she put Charlie’s on the market when she thought she was leaving town. Nina says, now she’s staying put, and Ava says, she’s not sure if she’s going to keep it. She asks if Phyllis has been to the pub, but Phyllis says she hasn’t. Ava says she hopes Phyllis comes by. She thinks Phyllis would like it. Phyllis’s phone rings, and she steps away to take the call. Nina asks what Ava is doing, and Ava says, gathering information. Nina says, for what? and Ava says she’s going to ask Sonny for joint custody of Avery, and knowledge is power. Nina says Ava told her that she wouldn’t take advantage of her relationship with Mike; they just talked about that. Phyllis returns, and says, sorry about that, but Nina says, that’s okay. Ava has to leave. Sonny walks in.

Spencer shrugs Nikolas’s arm off, and Nikolas says, he’d never give up on Spencer. This is partly his fault, and he wants to fix it. Spencer asks if he’s broken. Is that what Ava told Nikolas? Is that why Nikolas threw him away? Nikolas tells him to stop blaming Ava, and take responsibility. Spencer says Ava told him that Nikolas is giving her control over his trust fund. Open his eyes and see his wife for who she really is.

Sonny asks Phyllis how she is, and how she likes the city. Phyllis says, it’s a beautiful city, and he tells her that if she needs anything, call him, and he means anything. She thanks him, and he tells Ava, come on. They go to another table, and Phyllis asks if Nina is all right. Nina says, yeah. She’s accepted that Mike doesn’t exist, and she means nothing to Sonny.

Ava says, that was a little awkward, and Sonny says, they’re here for Avery. She says, what she wanted to tell him is, that while he was away, Avery got used to seeing her every single day. He says, until she left Avery with Carly, and she says she did that for Avery’s protection. He says he has no intention of keeping Avery away from her. The visitation rights as they are, are perfect… No? She says, no. She doesn’t think that’s what’s best for their daughter any longer. She wants to revisit the arrangement, and she’d like joint custody. He says, not gonna happen, and she looks at Nina.

Carly tells Willow, Nina doesn’t respect boundaries or care about people’s feelings. The fact that she’s trying to rewrite the history of Nelle proves she’s not dealing in reality. She’s desperate to believe that Nelle was troubled or misunderstood, and had Nina known the truth, she could have redeemed Nelle. And she acts on those beliefs, like telling Wiley about his real mother or defending her daughter.  It’s no different than believing Sonny was happier in Nixon Falls. Willow says, and she acted on that belief, and Carly says, she did, which makes Carly concerned about Wiley, and about Nina having a relationship with him. Nina is going to continue living with her belief that Nelle could have been better through Wiley. She doesn’t get that her beliefs are just stories she keeps telling herself. As far as Carly is concerned, that makes Nina extremely dangerous.

Michael says he likes Sheridan’s record on law and order; how he tackles tough cases to get justice. Sheridan says, if he’s elected as Pennsylvania Attorney General, he intends to build on that commitment. Unfortunately, the incumbent looks strong in the polls. Michael says he saw that, which is why he reached out. He thinks their donation could get Sheridan through that final push, and Sheridan says he’s grateful. He has big plans for his state. Michael says, about that. He’d like to discuss one plan in particular.

The Quartermaines gather in the living room, and Brook tells Austin, they’re all very busy, and don’t have all day. He says he spoke with Monica earlier, and Brook says, whoop-de-do. He says, it was a really nice conversation, zero posturing. It’s hard to imagine she’s part of their family. She talked about that. She talked about ELQ, and how it’s hard for them to distinguish between where the family ends and the business begins. Ned says, that’s hardly a revelation, and Austin says, it made him realize something. He wants to be part of this family, but then he realized that if they’re all incapable of separating the family from business, he doesn’t want anything to do with it. Zero. Zilch. Hand over the papers, and he’ll sign away his claim. Brook looks all proud of herself.

Brook hands Austin the paper, and he reads it. As Jimmy Lee’s son he relinquishes all claims to stock or any assets. Maxie asks if this is what he really wants, and he says he’s not sure. What he wanted for so long was for his father to get the recognition he wanted so badly, but now he’s thinking the price is just too high. He’s not talking about his medical career; he’s talking about his soul. Brook says, cue the violins, and he says he had no idea what he was walking into. There is no depth the Quartermaines won’t sink to, and he wants nothing to do with them. He wants no part of them. He’s not a Quartermaine. Brook says, hallelujah, and gives him a pen. He signs the paper.

Willow says, everything Carly is telling her, makes total sense. She just feels, at this moment, Nina is lying low, and it doesn’t do Wiley any good to poke the bear. Strategically, if they have all their defenses right, Nina’s at the disadvantage, so why not wait? Let her be the one to go court and fight for visitation. Carly says, Willow wants to put the ball in Nina’s court? And Willow says, if they target Nina, it makes her the victim, and she obviously has no problem seeing herself that way. But if they sit back and do nothing, she’s the one starting the fight. Carly asks if there’s a chance Willow is saying this because deep down, she’s the type of person who likes to fix things and wants everyone to get along? Willow is sure that’s part of it, but isn’t Michael like that too? Or is she wrong? Carly says, Michael is kind, and fair, and forgiving, but he’s also someone who can be pushed too far. Given the grief they endured, and the risk she took stepping in for Sonny, and to think it didn’t have to happen, Nina might have pushed Michael too far.

Nikolas says he knows exactly what Ava said to Spencer. She offered him a way out of the charges, out of the whole godawful mess, but did he take it? No. Spencer says, there’s no way he’s going to live his life under that woman’s thumb, and Nikolas says, she’s his wife and he loves her. All they’re asking is for him to respect that. Spencer says, never, and Esme pulls him aside. She says, she understands he’s upset, but she thinks he needs to do what his dad a and Ava want. He asks what she’s talking about; she can’t stand Ava either. Esme says, she knows, but at this rate, all he’s going to accomplish by trying to spite them, is land himself in jail. Then what happens to her?

Ava says she thinks Sonny might change his mind, but he says, he has custody of Avery, and that’s that. He pauses a moment, and says, she’s right. Avery is going through a rough time right now. She’s happy that she’s with her father, but she’s confused. She needs stability and assurance that her parents are going to be there. Ava says she agrees completely. What is he saying? He says he’s going to give her more time with Avery. Not on the court’s terms, but his terms.

Maxie asks if Austin is sure he’s okay with dropping the lawsuit, and he says, lawsuits never make him happy. He thanks her for her support, and she says, anytime. She leaves, and Ned tells him, good luck. For what it’s worth (🍷), he thinks Austin’s patients are lucky to have him. Brook holds the door open for Austin, and Austin says, how very kind. She says, isn’t it? and he says, if she’s thinking this is over, she’d be wrong about that. This is just beginning. Back inside, Olivia tells Ned, sorry, but the guy’s got an ulterior motive. Ned says, she didn’t really mean what she said earlier, and she says, don’t tell her what she means. He says, that’s it, out of the blue, she wants a divorce, and she says, he really thinks this is out of the blue? He says, yes, and she says, if they can’t even agree on what’s best for Leo, what kind of a marriage do they have? She stomps off.

Spencer says there’s still a chance  he can beat these charges, and go free, and Esme says, with a lawyer who doesn’t even know his name? Nikolas says he’s not the enemy, and Spencer says he never said Nikolas was. Nikolas says, this is happening right now, and in real time. Is Spencer willing to risk a record and possible jail time just to dig in his heels? Esme says, she’ll support him, no matter what. She can’t imagine losing him. Diaz comes back, and says she read Spencer’s file, the right one this time. Spencer asks Nikolas if he can have a moment with his to consult with his attorney, and Nikolas asks him to please think about what they talked about. Diaz says she essentially  just has one question for Spencer. How does he want to plead?

Willow says, so Carly doesn’t think there’s anything to be said for keeping the peace? Carly says she does, but that’s not going to happen here. Willow is surrounded by very proactive people. Michael won’t do anything rash, where the blowback lands on Wiley, but make no mistake, if Michael’s put in a situation to act, her son will act. Willow thanks her for the coffee, and leaves. Carly shakes her head. I send hate vibes to the lily pond. If the moss bowl🎍 was still there, we wouldn’t have nearly as much tension.

Sheridan says he sees a lot of potential here, and Michael says, so they can help each other? Sheridan says he looks forward to it.

Phyllis says she’s going to treat herself to a stroll through the botanical gardens, and Nina says, she loves the botanical gardens. How about if she clears her schedule, and goes along? Phyllis says, it’s kind of her, but she was looking forward to some time alone. She wants to stroll and let her mind roam. Nina asks if she’s sure, and Phyllis says Nina doesn’t need to worry about her; she’ll be fine. She just needs to figure out what comes next. Nina says, you and me both. Phyllis leaves, and Nina looks at Sonny and Ava.

Sonny asks if that works for Ava, and she says it does. She thanks him for acknowledging that Avery needs her mother. She thinks Nixon Falls changed him. He says, he always takes care of his children, and gets a very Mike look on his face. She says she’ll write out a schedule, and email it to him. She starts to leave, and he says, hold on. They still have some unfinished business

Tomorrow, Doc tells Nikolas that she (Laura?) was very clear about what should happen, Victor is impressed, Nina wants to offer a solution, and Sonny has a proposition for Ava.

Project Runway

Christian called everyone back to the runway at 1:30 am to give them a challenge. He told them, fashion changed constantly, which kept it relevant, and right now, there was nothing more relevant than streetwear. The designers were to create three separate pieces for an impactful breakout streetwear look. Their guest judge was Wisdom Kaye, the best dressed man on TikTok. They watched on video as he explained some things about streetwear. The key takeaway points for me were, big is comfortable, and accessories are key. They were given two days. There was sketching, picking models, and going to Mood (45 minutes, $300). While the sketching was happening, Haitian born Prajje talked about how he wanted to bring his culture into his designs, but always seems to get the wrong model. He was concerned it was going to look like cultural appropriation. This caused chatterbox and plus-sizer Meg to get a little too enthusiastic with her support, saying she was insulted for him, which made Prajje uncomfortable. She also made it about herself, saying she’d grown up without seeing big girls as models. I made the sketching about myself, and did some designing in my head because I love streetwear. And for a hot minute, I was a designer. Sort of. I was assistant office manager for an up and coming junior sportswear company, who shall remain nameless, and often wore many hats. I designed a matchbook cover for them (a tchotchke for buyers), but on days when they were short a designer and needed something quickly, they’d be like, here draw this, but make it different; what’s commonly known as a knockoff.

Prajje was able to switch models, and that got Kenneth thinking an Asian model would be better suited to his designs. He asked Meg if she’d switch with him, and told her that he’d understand if she said no this late in the game. In Meg’s interview, she said she thought it was important to respect and acknowledge he wanted to design for his own culture, but she’d also spent hours designing for the model she had, and didn’t want to seem bitchy if she said no. She decided to swap, and brought her model over to Kenneth, but here’s where it got weird. She told Kenneth that the time to have the discussion was 16 hours ago, which was totally true, but she did get bitchy about it, and when Kenneth said they didn’t have to do it, she told him, stop talking. Back at her work station, she didn’t shut up, causing her new model to be concerned she’d yell at him. This prompted Prajje to jump in, since he was already pissed off from the earlier conversation, getting all her face about how she’d pretended to be supportive earlier. She ended up walking out, after bitching at Kenneth for not being supportive, and making Kenneth cry. And this is just the second episode.

The next day, Christian told the designers that he’d heard they had a tough night, and Meg decided to drop out. In her interview, she said she’d been blindsided and had a panic attack, but felt she did the right thing in sticking up for herself. The intensity of the competition wasn’t good for her mental health or mental peace. Kenneth decided to throw together a patchwork piece using everyone’s scraps, to thank them for their support.

They did the usual plug for Tresemme (ha-ha, auto correct wants it to be tiresome) and Maybelline (which is actually in spellcheck), and the show was on. Unfortunately, the patchwork thing did not work very well, and looked out of place with the rest of  the outfit. Bones had a skirt that turned into a cape that I loved, and Kristina mixed patterns in a way I would love to, but fail at miserably. Aaron also had a yellow/grey reversable bomber jacket that I would definitely buy if I could afford it, and Wisdom said it was his favorite look. Prajje had an entire painting on the back of his jacket. It was beautiful, but I’d be afraid to wear it. I’d probably lean up against some wet paint the first time out. Then came everyone urging Kenneth to tell the story behind the… shirt? Vest? Whatever it was.

Prajje said it hadn’t been fair that Kenneth had been degraded in front everyone, and couldn’t speak for himself, and they both ended up crying. The judges were supportive, but Brandon said, unfortunately, it was their least favorite. The story couldn’t save him.

The judges picked the three highest and three lowest scores; Aaron, Prajje, and Kristina being the former. The latter were Darren, who tried for a rock star look, but ended up with messy; Katie, whose outfit was deemed out of proportion, but I did like the shirt; and Kenneth. What did I say about that patchwork thing? Brandon said there had never been a time when it was harder to pick a winner, but Prajje got the title this week, his Haitian culture paying off. Nina said the expression of him in the outfit had moved her. In his interview, he said it had been amazing to end with a win. He’d won with and for his country. Nina told him that he had passion and creativity, and he said it was reassurance he was on the right path. He also won immunity for next week. As for a loser, the judges decided since someone had already gone home, they didn’t need to send anybody else there. There was a group hug, and Brandon told them to celebrate and bring it next week. When the almost losers went back to the group, everybody squealed and hugged.

Next time, a haunted house, and guest judge Taraji P. Henson.

🌝 Goodnight, Moon…

Come on down tomorrow, for soap and whatever else I can dig up that’s entertaining. Until then, stay safe, stay cultivating wisdom, and stay grounded in reality. Don’t make your beliefs just stories you tell yourself.
