What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Scout comes out of the pool and thanks Sam for bringing her to her swim lesson. She says she misses daddy, and Sam says she does too. Scout says, they can miss him together, when Gladys comes in and says, that breaks her heart. Sam says she bets it does.

Cody walks into the nail salon, where Diane is relaxing, and says, her assistant told him where to find her. Diane says, that’s the last personal information her assistant is giving out, and Cody asks if she isn’t Sasha’s lawyer. She says, this isn’t the time or the place… and he says he’s here to let her know that he won’t be pressing charges and he won’t be cooperating with the PCPD if they decide to go after Sasha.

A woman tells Sasha good morning and says she hopes Sasha slept better last night. Sasha says she can’t remember the woman’s name, and the woman says she’s Mandy. How is Sasha feeling this morning? Sasha says, confused, a little scared to be here, and Mandy says, that’s not unusual. Sasha says she feels like she’s missing something important, like she’s lost a chunk of time, and Mandy suggests she get Sasha some water and maybe some breakfast. I wonder once again why Sasha has a room that has what looks like a refrigerated case from a deli in it, and Sasha says she thinks what would help is if she could talk to her guardian, her mother-in-law. Mandy says she’ll see what she can do, Sasha thanks her, and she leaves.

On the phone at the MetroCourt, Nina says she’s calling about their venue for her wedding. Sonny hands her a pen, and Brick gets Sonny’s attention. Nina says, no. They haven’t actually picked out a date, but they were thinking Valentine’s Day. Sonny meets Brick in a private area and thanks Brick for meeting him. Brick says, always. It’s good to see him. Sonny asks if Brick has anything good for him, and Brick says he always has something. They’ll see how good it is.

Nina thanks them and says she’ll be in touch, when Olivia goes behind the bar. Nina says, planning this wedding is going to drive her crazy, and Olivia says, really? Nina says she’s so sorry. She knows Olivia is dealing with so much more with Ned. She’s sure he’s going to come out of this. Olivia says, he’s not out of it now. Her husband is running around all over town, out all night, and she has no idea where he is or what he’s doing. Nina says, but when things like this happen… Olivia says, things like this? Like when her husband thinks he’s Eddie Maine? Nina says, Ned loves her, and Olivia says, Sonny loved Carly, and now he’s marrying Nina.

Gladys says she remembers Scout. She was shopping for dresses at Logan’s. Scout says, Gladys is the lady in the coat she didn’t want her to touch it, and Gladys says, kid, it was couture. Sam suggests she take a picture of Scout by the pool to show her daddy, and Gladys says, it must be hard. How’s she doing with her daddy in the slammer? Sam suggests Scout grab a chair and snack, and she’ll meet her at the chair in a minute. Gladys gets a call from Ferncliff State Facility, but she ignores in, putting her phone back in her bag.

There’s a knock at Laura’s apartment, and after hesitating a moment, Spencer opens the door to Valentin. Valentin asks if he can come in, and Spencer asks why he’s alone. Where’s his grandmother and Doc? Valentin says, they’re still looking for Spencer’s father. Esme stands in the doorway with Ace.

Anna goes into Robert’s office, and asks where he stands with WSB. He says, top o’ the mornin’ to her too, and she says, good morning. Where does he stand with the WSB? He says, since he became DA, he’s had very little contact with them. Anyone who was there during his years has either been fired, put out to pasture, or transferred. She asks if he doesn’t think it’s suspicious, and he says he thinks anything to do with Bureau is suspicious, particularly arresting her for treason. She says, that’s over now, and he says, is it?

Olivia says she didn’t mean for it to come out like that, but it must have occurred to Nina that her situation with Sonny thinking he was Mike might cross Olivia’s mind, given her current situation with Ned. Nina says, and Olivia still resents the fact she didn’t tell anyone, but Olivia says, that’s in the past, but the whole situation with Ned is shoving it back into her face. Nina says, it’s a little different with Ned. He’s here in Port Charles with his family. Olivia says, but he doesn’t realize they’re his family. She honestly thought that this was going to be over quickly; that she’d stick around and talk to him and be with him. But the look in Ned’s eyes… It’s like he’s not even there. Nina tells her, just keep trying. She’ll get through to him. Olivia says she thought she’d gotten through to him. He asked her to make him breakfast, and he actually asked her to tell him a little bit about her past, so she did. Nina says, sounds like progress, but Olivia says, it wasn’t Ned; it was Eddie. Ned already knows all of the things she told him. Eddie… Nina says, just take one step at a time, and Olivia says, he was out again all night last night. She didn’t even bother to check to see if he came home in the morning. For all she knows, he’s out there falling in love with some other woman, just like Sonny fell in love with Nina.

Brick says, they’ll start with the little fish, and puts a photo on the table. He says he’s sure Sonny recognizes them, and Sonny says, Ava’s favorite nanny, Betty Rutherford. Brick says, 26, no criminal record. She actually worked as a nanny briefly. Sonny says he’s not surprised about briefly, and Brick says, she also worked as a receptionist for a trucking company. Would Sonny like to venture a guess as to where it was? Sonny says, Pautuck, and Brick says, bingo.

Sam grabs Glady’s arm, and hustles her over to the side, asking, what is wrong with her? Gladys says, her dad is in prison. She’s got to learn the world is not always a safe place. Sam says she’ll decide what her daughter needs to learn and when, and if Gladys says one more word to Scout, she’ll throw Gladys’s ass in that pool so fast, she won’t even know what happened. Gladys says, okay. Maybe she got carried away. Maybe being here is bringing back the horrible memory of Sasha stabbing Cody. The look in her eyes… She wanted to kill him. Sam says she doesn’t believe it for a minute. What really happened that day? Gladys says, after she stabbed him? but Sam says, no, before. Who drove her to do something like that?

Sasha asks if Mandy got in touch with Gladys, and Mandy says she called the number Sasha’s mother-in-law left on her admission form, but unfortunately, she got voicemail. Sasha asks if she left a message, and Mandy says she did. She told Gladys that Sasha is asking for her. Sasha thanks her, when Dr. Montague comes to the door. Mandy asks if there’s anyone else Sasha would like her to call, and Sasha says, yes. Cody Bell.

Cody asks if Diane heard anything he just said, and she says, loud and clear. He says, Sasha shouldn’t be in Ferncliff, and he won’t do or say anything to keep her there, and Diane says, at the risk of sacrificing the one hour she has to herself today, she’ll engage, but he’d better settle. He says he’s sorry for barging in. Please don’t fire her assistant. Sasha needs help as soon as possible. Diane asks if he doesn’t think she’s going to get that help in Ferncliff, and he says, something is wrong with everything that’s going on with her. The look in her eyes when she… Diane says, allegedly stabbed him, and he says, yes. That wasn’t Sasha; at least not the Sasha he knows. Something else is going on, and he’s really worried about her safety. She asks what he means. He has to give her something specific. He says, and he will, as soon as she gets him into Ferncliff to see Sasha.

Spencer ask how things went in Chechnya, and as Esme listens, Valentin says, they found the Cassadine house. There was a new owner, and no sign of Nikolas anywhere. Spencer says, and Valentin just left them there? but Valentin says, no. They left Chechnya for Prague, and that’s when Doc and Laura decided they wanted to continue the search on their own. Spencer asks, where? and Valentin says, Cassadine Island, but there was no trace of Nikolas there either. Esme comes out and says, maybe they can’t find him because he’s dead.

Anna says, they can’t talk to Frisco because he left the Bureau, and Robert says, and the person who’s replaced him thinks the way to clean up the Bureau image is to fire everyone. She says, by disgracing, then distancing themselves from so many former agents, and he says, tis the way of bureaucracy, my dear. She says, by erasing the past. Just convince everyone it was all bad, and it makes the new regime seem so  much better. At least that was the impression she got when she was in London after the whole Greenland fiasco. He says, the late, not lamented Victor, and she says, it was just so weird. Like the entire process was orchestrated in a manner she just didn’t recognize. It all felt so alien to her, and she’s been debriefed more times than she can count. He says, this is the only reason she came charging in here? but she says, no, it’s not. There’s another reason. What does he know about Pikeman?

Valentin says, good morning to Esme and Ace, and remarks that Ace is getting bigger. She asks if he thinks Ace’s father could be dead, but he says he’s seen no evidence Nikolas is dead. Spencer says, there’s no indication he’s alive either, and Valentin says, that is true also. Spencer says, he’s just hiding the way he did when he had them convinced Valentin had killed him. He spent three years grieving that man. Esme says, they don’t know… and Spencer asks if she didn’t just say this is what he does. He makes a mess of his life, then he runs away from it. He certainly made a mess this time, getting his son’s girlfriend pregnant. Valentin asks if Spencer thinks he’d abandon Ace, and Spencer says, Nikolas abandoned him. That’s who their father is; he’s a coward. His grandmother’s off searching for him. She’d be better off coming home, not wasting time. Nikolas is better off gone from him and his brother.

Montague says, in the future, would Mandy please consult him before making calls for Miss Gilmore? and Mandy says, of course (🍷). He says, hello to Sasha, and Mandy says she thought she could help Sasha get more comfortable by removing her restraints. To my surprise, he says he thinks that’s a good idea, and they remove the straps from her wrists. Sasha thanks them, and he asks if that’s better. She says it is, and thanks Mandy, who says she’ll be back later. Sasha says she hopes Mandy’s not in trouble for calling her mother-in-law, and Montague says, of course (🍷) not, but he’s curious. Why did she ask to speak to Cody Bell? She says, Cody is her friend. He’s helped her before. He says, under the circumstances, she didn’t think that would be awkward? and she says, because she’s in this place? He says, because she tried to kill him.

Diane says she appreciates Cody’s desire to help Sasha, but even if she thought this was a good idea, she has no power to authorize a visit to Ferncliff; only her guardian can do that. He says he’ll find another way, because Gladys wouldn’t lift a finger for him, and he wouldn’t trust her if she did.

Gladys says, how dare Sam accuse her of doing something to hurt her daughter-in-law, but Sam says, whoa. She didn’t accuse Gladys of anything. Unless of course (🍷) Gladys thinks there’s a reason she should. Glady’s says, of course (🍷) not, but after Sam grilled her about her relationship with Selina Wu, it was crystal clear Sam is out to get her. Sam says, what’s clear to her, and Sasha’s friends, is she was perfectly fine, and handled a very difficult situation at Home & Heart without a problem. What doesn’t make sense is what happened after. Gladys says, maybe it would make more sense if Sam paid attention to her friend Sasha and less to snooping around about her.

Brick lays down another photo, and tells Sonny, Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, 48, no criminal record; graduate of New York State University, Buffalo, and Great northern Medical School. He came to Port Charles soon after delivering Maxie Jones’s baby. Out in the woods no less. They had a brief relationship. He’s currently dating who? Sonny says, Ava, and Brick says, the latest of the Quartermaines on his father’s side. Sonny says, Edward’s bastard son Jimmy Lee Holt was his father, and Brick says, they can move on to this guy. He puts another photo in front of Sonny, and Sonny says he met him, then he got whacked.

Nina and Olivia sit down with coffee, and Nina says, from what she knows of Eddie, he doesn’t seem like the type who would go out and fall in love with someone. Olivia says, maybe he’ll cut a swathe of one-night stands through Port Charles. Don’t think that hasn’t crossed her mind. Nina says, if she and Sonny are causing Olivia to overthink things, they can keep a low profile, but Olivia says, this is her problem, not Nina’s problem. She has to deal with it, and she will. Leo actually likes Eddie. Then he asks her where his father is, and she doesn’t know what to tell him… and it breaks her heart. Nina says, maybe Olivia should go home. She can take care of things here. Olivia says, Brook is taking Leo to class and taking him to the stables. Tracy can drive someone else crazy today. She came here so she can get her mind off all things Quartermaine and Eddie Maine, and she thinks she’s found the perfect thing to focus on to get her mind off of it. Nina says, the books? but Olivia says she’s going to plan Nina’s wedding.

Sam asks why Gladys is so paranoid. She thinks if she did some real snooping, she’d find some big trouble. Gladys says, all she’s doing is trying to take care of Sasha. Sasha is family to her. Sam says, right, and Gladys says she saw the look on Sam’s face at the hospital when Sasha wanted her guardianship rescinded. She thought it was a good idea. Sam says she certainly did, and Gladys asks if Sam can’t see that her loving concern is exactly what Sasha needed. She saw what ended up happening. Sam says, according to witness testimony, Sasha had no idea what happened, and Gladys says, that’s exactly her point. Sam and all the rest of Sasha’s so-called friends thought she was fine. She was the only one who saw the truth. She’s the one who wanted to take care of Sasha. Her friends couldn’t see it because some people manage to hide their feelings and hide what’s going on. Sam says she thinks Gladys is right about one thing. Some people are really good at hiding things. Sasha isn’t one of them. Gladys says, that’s because Sam doesn’t know Sasha the way she does. And she never will. Gladys leaves, and Sam looks over at Scout, who waves.

Sasha says she told Montague, she doesn’t remember stabbing Cody, but he says she did stab him. In front of a lot of people. She very nearly killed him. She says she guesses she needed help, and he agrees. He brings a chair over and suggests they start with what she does remember. She says, everything was going well. Some days were more difficult than others, like when someone tried to upset her on Home & Heart. But she handled it, and she was proud of herself for being able to handle it. He says, it’s clear now that she wasn’t dealing with it, and she says, but she was. She thinks it started happening after she took those pills he prescribed her. She took them for a few days and started to feel groggy and paranoid, and she started hallucinating and hearing voices. He says, the pills he gave her aren’t what caused her hallucinations or violent behaviors, but she says she was fine before she started taking them. He takes a plastic bag with a bottle in it out of his pocket, and says, they found these in her purse. It’s what caused her to try and kill Cody Bell.

Nina asks if Olivia is sure she’s thinking clearly. Isn’t this going to be too painful for her? Olivia says she loves Sonny. They have an amazing son, a spectacular grandson. She wants him to be happy, and Nina makes him happy. Nina says, what about Carly? and Olivia says, Carly’s her best friend; that ain’t gonna change. And deep down, she thinks Carly wants Sonny to be happy too… even if they aren’t on the best terms right now. Carly still believes Ned turned her and Drew in, and got Drew sent to prison.

Brick says, Gordon Stevens, 52. Sonny met him? Sonny says, briefly. Took him for an ex-con. Brick says, good eye. Five years in Pentenville for grand larceny. No wife, no kids, no family. Worked for a trucking company in… Sonny says, Pautuck, and Brick says, and finally, we have this guy. He sets down a photo and says, Mason Gatlin.

Valentin says he’s sorry he couldn’t bring better news for all three of them. He asks if Ace remembers him, then asks if he can hold him. Spencer nods, and Esme gives Ace to Valentin, who says, they spent a lot of time in Greenland, didn’t they? Good for Spencer. Not every brother would step up the way he has. Spencer says, it’s not Ace’s fault their father’s a coward, and Valentin says, he’s doing a good job. Look at Ace. After Greenland, he’s still a happy and well young man. Spencer says, Esme’s taken a lot of the responsibility. She’s determined to make sure Ace has everything he wants. She’s a good mother. Esme thanks him, and says, although she can’t quite figure out how to give him a bath without drenching herself. Valentin says she’ll figure it out, and tells Ace that he’s credit to his brother and mother. Spencer and Esme smile.

Robert says, Pikeman’s an independent defense contractor; been around forever. But then again, she should know that. So what is she really asking him? She remembers a Bureau agent saying he wants to ask her about the Greenland incident. Before she arrived in London, he went over several reports about Greenland, and he has a few questions. She says, of course (🍷). Whatever he needs. He asks, what possessed her to go rogue, run interference, and ignore the very specific mandate Agent Hursley gave her? and she says, with all due respect to Agent Hursley… He says, she provided him with no respect whatsoever, and she says she has to be honest with him. He didn’t seem to grasp the fact people’s lives were at stake and that there were extenuating circumstances. He says, there always is, particularly with her. It says here that after her arrival, she sought out Valentin Cassadine. She notices he has a file on Pikeman, and he says, as she’s well aware, the Bureau has been keeping track of him for several years, and there appears to be a discrepancy in her reporting on pages 6 and 12. Robert says, earth to Anna. Why is she talking about Pikeman? She says she’s sure it’s nothing. He’s been very helpful. She leaves, and he says he didn’t do anything.

Nina says, Carly blames Ned for what happened to Drew? and Olivia says, Carly came to the hospital when Ned was in ICU. They didn’t know if he was going to make it. She was a complete wreck and bit Carly’s head off, but it seemed like she still believed Ned did it. Olivia knows he didn’t. Before this thing went down, Ned swore to her that it wasn’t him and she believes him. Somebody else turned in Carly and Drew. Nina says, Olivia hasn’t spoken to Carly since? and Olivia says, no, but you know what? They’re going to get through it. She and Carly have been through a lot worse. Nina says, if Olivia is sure about this, she and Sonny would be honored to have her help plan their wedding. She’s called a couple of venues… Olivia says, whoa, whoa, whoa (WOTD). She’s going to stop Nina right there.

Brick tells Sonny, again, no criminal record. Austin’s cousin on his mother’s side. A trucker; works for the family business. Sonny says, the same business Betty and Gordon worked for? and Brick says, Sonny is doing his job for him now. Sonny asks if Brick thinks he’s the bigger fish, and Brick says, so far. The company was bought two years ago through a very well hidden LLC. No record of his occupation since. Sonny says, what about now?

Valentin promises Ace that he and Ace’s cousin Charlotte are not going to be strangers, and Esme takes Ace to the bedroom. Spencer says he hasn’t had a chance to thank Valentin for Greenland, but Valentin says, Spencer doesn’t have to thank him. Spencer says, if Valentin hadn’t shown up, Uncle Victor was going to use that pathogen on him and Trina. He wouldn’t have been able to face losing her. Valentin says, they all did what they had to do, but Spencer says he’s trying to thank Valentin and tell Valentin that he was wrong about him. Valentin says, no, he wasn’t. Valentin’s father is dead. Nikolas is gone. They have a rare opportunity to reinvent their family. Spencer says, Valentin thinks so? and Valentin says, Spencer, Ace, Alexis, her daughters, they’re good people. Spencer says he’s not sure he deserves to be included in that, but he’ll keep his nose clean if Valentin will. They shake hands.

Robert asks if Mr. Bell sorted Diane out, and she says, he did indeed, but she did not engage. Okay. She engaged a little bit, but only after he made his intentions perfectly clear. He is not going to press charges against her client Sasha Gilmore, and he steadfastly refuses to cooperate with any police investigation into the matter. He says, she stabbed him, and Diane says, allegedly. He says, it was in front of witnesses, but she says, he’s not going to press charges; he’s not going to cooperate. Robert has no case, so she requests all charges against Sasha Gilmore be dropped immediately. He says he’ll talk to the ADA, but she didn’t come all this way to tell him that. She says she didn’t, and holds up a ticket. She came to invite him to the Port Charles auto show – she hands it to him – this weekend. He says he loves car shows. It’s a date. She says, no, it’s not a date. It is simply two colleagues going to look at cars. He needs a new one desperately. He says he loves his car; he’s had it forever. She says, that’s precisely her point. It’s not good to hold on to things forever. He could get stranded by the side of the road. That’s what happens when you try to hold on to things forever; you get stranded by the side of the road again and again and again. Whereas a new model is very dependable and can also be exciting. Of course (🍷) you never know until you try.

Anna makes a chart with names, and remembers the debriefing agent saying, shortly after arrival, she sought out Valentin Cassadine. She thinks about seeing the Pikeman file, and draws a line between the WSB and Pikeman. She flashes back to telling Robert that they can’t talk to Frisco because he left the Bureau, and Robert saying, and the person who replaced him thinks the way to clean up the Bureau’s imagine is to fire everyone. She draws a line between Sonny and Pikeman, and flashes back to Sonny saying he’s working with a high-profile security firm lately. Has she heard of Pikeman? She remembers the agent saying that she sought out Valentin Cassadine, and draws lines from each pair of names – WSB-Robert, WSB-Pikeman, Sonny-Pikeman, and Valentin-WSB – to the middle, where she writes, VALENTIN. She flashes back to telling Sonny that he’s not to speak to anyone new. If his contact person is to change, do not proceed until he’s spoken to his original contact person. Does that make sense? He says it does. She draws a circle around Valentin’s name.

On the phone, Sam tells someone her name and says she was hoping to visit her friend Sasha today. The Ferncliff desk nurse says, only approved visitors are allowed to see Miss Gilmore, and Sam says, approved? The nurse says, she’d need to have the approval of Miss Gilmore’s guardian Gladys Corbin. Sam hangs up.

Nina says, if Olivia’s changed her mind about the wedding, she completely understands, but Olivia says she hasn’t changed her mind about the wedding. What is this crazy talk about other venues? There’s only one venue and she and Nina own it. Nina says, doesn’t she think people are going to… Olivia says, going to what? They’re going to read about the preparations on every website known to man? They’re going to be dying to have their wedding here? They’re going to bring in all kinds of business? Come on. Nina can’t possibly be selfish enough to deny the MetroCourt all that free publicity. Not to mention the fact that she’ll have a beautiful, spectacular wedding. Nina says, as co-owner of the MetroCourt, she guesses that makes sense, and Olivia says, if she has the wedding someplace else, people are going to wonder why. There will be cancelations all over the place. It can’t happen. Nina says, okay, and Olivia asks, so when’s the date? Nina says, they haven’t picked an exact date, but they were thinking Valentine’s Day, and Olivia says, ooh la la, romantic. It’s a great idea. Several months away… She could plan Harry and Meghan’s wedding in less time. Nina puts her hand on Olivia’s and says, thank you.

Brick says, this bastard is blackmailing him? and Sonny says, Ava. Brick says, because of the connection to his cousin? Why don’t they just take all three of them out and be done with it? Sonny says, they can’t. He has Nikolas Cassadine’s body. Brick says, so he didn’t run. He’s dead. Sonny lowers his voice, and says, Ava killed him, but she says it was an accident, and Brick says, wait a minute. Sonny’s saying they have her ex-husband’s body? Sonny says he’s got to protect her because she’s the mother of his child, so they can’t do anything until they get the body back. Looking like he has a headache, Brick says, hands off, and Sonny says, he lives until they get that body back.

Esme comes back out with Ace, and says, Valentin’s gone? and Spencer says, yep. She says she wanted him to see Ace’s new outfit. Oh well, next time. She tells Ace that Valentin liked him. He didn’t seem so bad. Spencer says, he’s not, and she thanks him for saying she’s a good mother. He says, she is, and she says, it’s just nice to hear. Although it’s not hard to be a good mother to this guy. Sometimes she thinks she couldn’t love him more, and every day she does. Maybe it’s because he gets cuter every day. Spencer says, that’s true. Ace is a very good-looking kid brother. She says, why don’t they take some pictures? and Spencer says, sure. They take pictures of Esme and Ace, Spencer and Ace, Ace alone, and the three of them. They look at the photos afterward, and Spencer says he thinks he’ll send this one to grandmother. Actually, he should probably send all these to grandma. She’d love to see Ace. Esme laughs and pushes Spencer’s hair out of his eyes.

Sasha looks at the bottle and says, these aren’t hers. She hasn’t been using. Someone must have planted them in her purse. He says, but she knows exactly what these are, doesn’t she? and she says she stopped taking them. He says, her bloodwork says otherwise. She’s been taking these for months. She says, no. She went to rehab. She beat her addiction. He says, she must know how common relapses are. There’s nothing to be ashamed about. She says she didn’t take them, and he says, if he’s going to help her, he needs to deal with the facts he has, and she needs to accept them too. They need to get those drugs out of her system, and this will do just that. He takes out a syringe, and puts it in her IV tube.

Cody goes to the desk at Ferncliff, and tells the Nurse Janice that he’s here to see Sasha Gilmore. She asks what his name is. She has to make sure he’s on the list of approved visitors. He says he’s sure he’s on the list. Sasha was married to his late cousin Brando Corbin. He’s Dante Falconari. Mandy joins them, and says, Sasha talked about her husband Brando, and Cody says, his death was a blow to all of them, but particularly for Sasha, obviously. That’s why his family is worried about her. Can he please see her?

As they walk into the restaurant, Brick says, Sonny takes good care of his exes, that’s for sure. He made sure to protect Carly’s new beau in prison. Now Ava. What’s next? Nina says, hey, Brick, and he says, what’s up, gorgeous? Olivia joins them, and he says, and another gorgeous. Olivia laughs, and Nina asks if everything is all right. Brick says, it will be, and Sonny asks why it looks like they’ve been up to something. Nina says, Olivia graciously agreed to help them plan their wedding, here at the MetroCourt, and Sonny says, really? That means a lot to him. Brick says, Sonny leads a charmed life, and Sonny smiles.

Janice asks to see Cody’s driver’s license, calling him Mr. Falconari, and he checks his pockets. He says he must have left it in the car, but she says she’s sorry. No one gets in to see Miss Gilmore without the consent of her guardian. If he wants to run to his car and get it, visiting hours are until 7 pm. He says he parked pretty far away, and Mandy says, he’s family, a cousin-in-law. Janice says, it wouldn’t matter if he was her brother. Miss Gilmore’s guardian was very specific. Cody says he bets she was, and Mandy asks if it isn’t time for Janice’s break. She can cover the front desk. Janice says she didn’t ask Mandy to do that. She’s sure Mandy has patients to check on. Mandy says, always do, and leaves. Cody says he’s sure Janice can understand how concerned they are about Sasha. He just needs a few minutes. She says she thinks she made it pretty clear what he needs. She’s sorry, but she has to follow the rules. The only way he’s getting in here is if he has an ID or he’s a patient. He tells her, have a nice day, and she says she intends to. He leaves, and I think I see an idea lightbulb over his head. Will he be checking in soon?

Scout asks, what’s wrong? but Sam says, there’s nothing wrong. Scout says, she has that look on her face. The look she gives when Scout is in  trouble. Did she do something bad? Sam hugs her and says, she didn’t do anything wrong. Someone else did.

At the salon, Gladys tells the nail technician that the color’s not too young for her (like a nail tech would suggest that), when her phone rings. She asks if everything is okay, and Montague says he has everything under control. She says, how’s her daughter-in-law? and he says he can assure her, she’s doing just fine.

Sasha lies on her bed and says, please. She doesn’t want to be here. She wants to go home.

Diane says, Robert suddenly doesn’t seem too enthused at the prospect. That’s okay. She’ll take Alexis. He says, Alexis doesn’t appreciate cars, and Diane says, but Alexis appreciates spending time with her, snatching the ticket out of his hand. She says, adios, and leaves.

Anna says, Valentin linked to Sonny – she draws another line – Sonny connected to Pikeman. What’s Valentin’s link… Valentin walks in, and asks, what’s going on? She says she thinks she knows who shot her. And she thinks he knows who too.

Tomorrow, Brook tells Cody, it looks like something shady is going on; Anna asks if Valentin is keeping something from her; and Tracy says, it’s time to have Ned committed.

🥀 Possibilities For a Funeral…

I was actually hoping for some kind of date as to when Bobbie’s death might be announced, but nope. It’s just speculation as to who might show up when it happens. It would be amazing to see them all.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sasha opens her eyes, and Brando says, hi, beautiful. She asks if she missed the fireworks, and he says she sure did. She says, that means he did too, but he says, being here with her, he ain’t missing nothing. She asks if she’s told him that he’s the best husband in the entire universe, and he says, no, but he just wants her to get better so they have decades of 4th of Julys ahead of them. She says, now that they’re past the worst of it, be straight with her, how bad is the fallout?

On the phone at the hospital, Portia says she called weeks ago to make an appointment with a genetic specialist. It was rescheduled and she wants to see if she can be fit in as soon as possible. It’s urgent. Curtis comes in with Marshall, and says, urgent? What’s going on?

Rory asks if he can make a confession, and Trina says, he’s the cop, not her. He says he’s been wanting to do that for a long time.

Sonny asks who bought Carly’s half of the hotel, but Olivia tells him, the real estate agent woudn’t say. She should have just gone with her gut. She offered to buy Carly’s half of the hotel, but Carly turned her down flat. She should have ignored Carly and done it anyway, and they wouldn’t be in this situation right now. He tells her not to blame herself, because Carly’s independent to a fault. Olivia says she knows that, but why couldn’t Carly have just said yes to her or to him. Now they’re stuck with some buyer who’s clearly not going to let Carly keep it. They see Drew, and Sonny says, unless she has a guardian angel.

Nina tells Carly that she just bought Carly’s half of the MetroCourt; she just closed the deal. Carly says, Nina is unbelievable. Her petition to visit Wiley didn’t go her way, so she’s going to stick it to Carly and her family, and take away something else she loves? Nina says, just the opposite. She didn’t buy the hotel for herself; she bought it for Carly.

Portia says, this was a consult for a patient, and Curtis says, an urgent consult. She says she may have overstated just a bit, and Marshall says he bets that gets a quicker result. She says, it certainly does, and asks, what brings them by GH? Certainly not a fireworks mishap she hopes. Curtis says, nothing like that. He just wanted to give her an update. She asks if he found evidence that Trina was set up, and he says, no, but thanks to Marshall, they have a lead.

Trina says, Rory’s been waiting a long time to kiss her? She’s glad he finally did. Unless… He says, what? and she says she told him that she wanted a distraction. Was that all that was? He says, definitely not… actually, maybe… He doesn’t know. They should probably check and make sure, doesn’t she think? She says, it’s the responsible thing to do, and he says, exactly, kissing her again.

Brando says, the only thing Sasha needs to worry about is resting and recovering, and she says, so it’s that bad, but he says, no, it’s… She says she’s so embarrassed, and he asks, why? She says she had a breakdown on live television. Doc is holding her here. Maxie and Lucy must be fielding all kinds of questions. He says, they’ve got it covered, but she says she feels awful. This is the second time she majorly messed up; it’s not fair. Gladys comes in, and says, can they believe the cafeteria ran out of hot dogs on the 4th of July? and Brando says, that has to be illegal. Gladys says, Sasha is awake. How is she feeling? Brando says, she’s stressed, so please tell her, everything at Deception is fine, that Lucy and Maxie are handling PR, and everything will be back to normal in no time. Sasha says, it’s her mess. She should be there to clean it up. Gladys says, it’s being handled, and everyone is far more concerned about Sasha. Sasha says, this time out was much needed. She feels much better now. Tomorrow, she goes home, and it’s back to business as usual. Brando and Gladys exchange glances, and Sasha asks, what’s that look? Brando says, they’ll talk about it tomorrow, but Sasha says she wants to talk about it now. Is something wrong? What aren’t they telling her?

Olivia asks how the kids liked the fair, and Drew says, they loved it. They’re back at her place now, safe and sound. She thanks him for taking them, and he says, it was fun. He asks if Carly is around, and Olivia says she hasn’t seen Carly for a minute, but she’s sure Carly is around somewhere. Sonny says, they heard someone bought Carly’s share of the MetroCourt, and Drew asks if they think it was him. Sonny says, was it? and Drew says, he kind of wishes it was. He thought they had more time to strategize. Sonny says, Drew’s been doing a lot of that lately, strategizing on Carly’s behalf, and Drew says, but it hasn’t been doing anybody any good, has it? Olivia asks if they’re going to clue her in, or keep speaking in code, and Drew says, he tried to sell Nina Crimson, so he could reimburse Carly so she could keep the hotel. Olivia says, that’s a great idea, and Drew says, unfortunately not great enough to work though. Sonny says, but Drew had to try, and Drew says he did. Carly woudn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for him.

Carly says, Nina bought her half of the hotel, and Nina says she did, to give it back to Carly, no strings attached. Carly tells her, she doesn’t know what to say, and Nina says she doesn’t have to say anything. Nina doesn’t think it’s right that Carly lost everything just because she was trying to help her son. That’s not fair. Believe it or not, she just wanted to do this for Carly. Carly says, if Nina is sincere… Nina says she is, and Carly says, then something’s in it for her. What is it? Good PR? Does Nina want to reinvent herself being her financial savior?… Oh, Nina is just praying Wiley finds out about this one day. Nina says, no. She understands what she did to Carly’s family is unforgiveable, and Carly says, so Nina is going to give her back her hotel, and it’s going to make up for everything? but Nina says, no. Nothing she could ever do will fully repair the damage she caused Carly. Carly says, Nina means ripping her family apart, and turning Sonny into a man his kids don’t even recognize? She can never repair that. Nina says, okay. So Carly agrees she owes her. Carly says, hell yeah, Nina owes her, and Nina says, then let her do this

Portia asks, what’s the new lead? and Curtis says, one of Marshall’s band members, Jack, got the name and address of the bartender that Trina and Josslyn found. He’s the same man who sold Esme that burner phone. Portia says, the one that was planted in Trina’s bag; that’s wonderful. Curtis says, but when they went back to the bar and his apartment, he was nowhere to be found. Marshall says, they figure he’s lying low because the cops were called to The Highsider. Portia says, he hasn’t been back to work since then? and Curtis says, no. Shady, right? She says, very shady. But what if they don’t find him? It’s just another dead end. Marshall tells her, don’t lose faith. He and Curtis are nowhere close to giving up on exonerating Trina. Curtis says, there’s already another plan in motion.

Brando says, they need to discuss treatment options for when Sasha is released, and Sasha says, treatment options? She already told them, she’s feeling so much better. She was stressed out. Under normal circumstances, she would have been fine, but putting a baby carrier that soon after Liam’s death was not normal. He says he gets that, but she hadn’t seen the baby carrier yet when she took those pills. She says, the pills; he found them on her after he brought her in here. That was just a one-time thing to help her deal, she swears. He says, that wasn’t just a one-time thing, and Gladys says she told him the truth, that Sasha used uppers to get through the IPO. Sasha says, because she was stressed, and Gladys says, she told him that too. Sasha asks if Gladys also told him that she stopped, and Gladys says she’ll let them talk. She leaves, and Sasha tells Brando, listen to her; she’s okay. She doesn’t need any more treatment. He says he loves her and he’s worried about her, but she says, he doesn’t have to be. She’s done with the pills. He has to believe her. He says he wants to, more than anything in the world, but he can’t.

Olivia tells Drew that he can’t blame himself, but he says he set the whole thing in motion. He met with an executive consultant, who pitched him the idea of merging ELQ and Aurora. He thought it was a great idea. He got on board; he got Michael on board. Pitched it to Ned, which turns out was a big miscalculation. Olivia tells him, she thinks the less said about Ned switching sides, the better, and he says, in order for the strategy to work, he had to inflate the stock value of Aurora, which is a legitimate tactic. Had the merger gone through, the stock would have helped it’s value. With that said, he never should have let Carly get involved. Sonny says, as if Drew could stop her, and Olivia says, once Carly sets her mind on something, that’s it; they all know that. All they can do is support her and she’s going to need a lot of that right now. She’s got some tough times ahead of her. Dex walks in, and tells Sonny, the car’s ready; visiting hours are going to be over soon. Sonny thanks him, and says he’s going to check in on Sasha and Brando. Olivia asks him to give Sasha her best, and Drew says he heard what happened; it’s so awful. Sonny says, Carly isn’t going to take his help, but if she needs anything, he’s here. He leaves, and on his way out, his phone rings. Sonny thanks Brick for calling him back, and says he needs Brick to check some information for him… Yeah, right away.

Carly says, now, after months posturing, Nina wants to do what’s right now? and Nina says, that’s not fair. Carly says, Nina wants to talk fair? and Nina says, ever since she… we got back from Nixon Falls, she’s been trying make up for her mistakes. Carly asks if that’s what Nina calls sleeping with her husband, and dragging them all to court just so she can force herself on Wiley? Nina says, he’s her grandson, then composes herself, and says, can they try to think about this practically? She knows there’s nothing she can do to balance the scales, but maybe this will top it a little bit more toward the middle, and that’s all she wants. Carly says she’s sure Nina believes that. She’s sure Nina has convinced herself that she’s trying to make amends, because the truth is far less flattering. Nina bought her half of the hotel, so Sonny couldn’t. Um… wait a minute. Sonny tried, and Carly said no, so what the what? Carly says, Nina and Sonny have been inseparable lately. She’s sure Sonny told Nina that he was going to offer to help her. Nina says, he did, and Carly says, and that just kills Nina, doesn’t it, knowing Sonny ran to her rescue? but Nina says, it didn’t kill her. She expected it actually. She knows Carly and Sonny will always be connected. That’s what happens when you share children. Carly says, funny Nina mentions that, because Michael is Sonny’s son, and yet Sonny sat in that courtroom and listened to Nina’s lawyer attack Michael, and he did nothing. That is why she’s turning down Sonny’s offer to help her, and she’s turning down Nina’s. Nina had her attorney accuse Michael of being violent towards women, and nothing could be further from the truth. Thank God the judge could see through Scotty’s lies, and thank God Michael kept his cool and defended himself, but the fact that it happened at all is on Nina. What Nina did to her family, sleeping with her husband, that’s nothing compared to what she did to Michael. Carly will never forgive her for what she did to Michael in that courtroom. She’d rather crawl on broken glass than take anything from Nina. Nina says, Carly is such a saint, and Carly’s attorney attacked her for all the things she’s done in her past. She had to do what she did; Carly backed her into a corner. Carly puts her finger in Nina’s face, and says she doesn’t care. She doesn’t care if Nina believes her own lies, and doesn’t care if Sonny believes every single word. Nina can’t come in here, and cry a little, and say pretty things, and give her back her hotel, and expect everything to be okay. She opens the door, and says, this place is Nina’s. She’ll be out by the end of the week. Nina leaves, and Carly slams the door behind her.

Drew says he’s really sorry he cost Olivia her business partner, but she asks if he heard her; it’s not his fault. He says, she honestly doesn’t blame him, not even a little bit? and she says, things might have gone a little different, had Michael not tried to drive Ned out of the company… He says, the intention was never to ice out Ned, but she says, by the time they told Ned about the Aurora merger, it was done deal, with no place for him in the family business. Drew says, that’s not true, and she says, no place he wanted. Drew says, so Ned, the guy who led the charge to reclaim ELQ for the Quartermaines, sided with Valentin? She can’t be okay with that. She says she stands by her husband, and he says, fair enough. She says she just wishes the members of this family weren’t always at odds with one another, and he says, it seems to be the Quartermaine way, even before the vote. He told Michael the merger would be the thing to cement his place in the family. She says, he got that right; he’s a Quartermaine through and through. He says he was trying to protect the family from Valentin, and she asks how that worked out for him. He says, not great, but it’s nobody’s fault but Ned’s. What Ned did was incredibly selfish, and it burned a lot of people in the process. She says, Drew got burned by the Quartermaines for the first time. Don’t worry, it won’t be the last. Welcome to the family.

Curtis says, he was able to use one of his P.I. connections to access the known associates of the bartender. They should have the names and addresses any minute. Portia says, and he thinks that’s where the bartender is? and Curtis says, that’s the hope. She says, but why? and Curtis says, because he knows he’s connected to the crimes Trina is accused of. He’s sure the bartender is scared if he gets drawn in, it will be trouble for him. Marshall says, and who knows what else might be unearthed from his past? and Curtis says, so if they can get this bartender guy to admit he sold the phone to Esme, it could blow this case wide open. Portia says, the trial starts tomorrow, and shakes her head. Curtis’s phone rings and he says, here he is, right here. He steps away, asking, what’s he got? Portia thanks Marshall for trying to help Trina, and he says, she raised a wonderful young woman. The fact that she’s got all these people willing to go to bat for her is a testament to that. She says she prays it’s enough, and they can end this finally once and for all. He pats her arm, and says, of course (🍷).

Rory says, it’s official; not a distraction. Her? Trina says, definitely not a distraction. She really likes him. He says he likes her too, a lot, and she says, he’s obviously a great guy. He says, oh no, here comes the but, and she says she really wanted him to kiss her. She enjoyed it and doesn’t regret it, but… He says, see? and she says, this can’t happen again. He says, does she mind if he asks why? and she says, it’s complicated. He’s so awesome to her and her friends… except for the time he arrested Spencer and Cameron… He asks if she’s backing off them because she’s still hung up on Spencer.

Sonny asks Gladys, how’s Sasha? and she says, thank God he’s here. She messed everything up. He asks what she means, and she says she knew Sasha was struggling. Sasha asked her not to tell Brando, so she didn’t. If she’d been up front with him, it wouldn’t have gotten this bad. He says, she thought she was helping her daughter-in-law, but she says she only made everything worse. He says, they can only do what’s best in the moment. If you ask him, all she’s done is step up for Sasha. She asks, then why does she feel like she’s failing Sasha? but he says, she’s not failing; she’s trying. That’s not failing. Does she know who would be proud? Mike. She says, he thinks so? and he says, he knows so, hugging her. Aww. He’s being the other Mike.

Brando says, Sasha told him that his mom was overreacting about her using again, and Sasha says, she was. Like Gladys said, she just needed some help to get through the IPO. By the time Gladys found out, she’d already stopped using. He says, the point is, she lied to him. He doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do with that. She says, she lied to him because why worry him over nothing? She didn’t want to start their life together that way. He says, which brings him to the next question. Was she using drugs when they got married? She says she was not high during their ceremony. She did take some pills the morning she proposed, but that doesn’t change anything. He asks how she can say that, and she says, pills or not, she wanted to marry him, more than anything. Being his wife makes her so happy. He makes her so happy. He says, she makes him happy too, and she says, those drugs have nothing to do with her feelings for him. She just needed a little something extra to help with the stress and the pressure, but it’s over now. Brando takes her hand, and says, he’s an addict too, remember? The road to sobriety isn’t a straight line. She had a set-back. She says, that’s all it was, a set-back, and he says, he’ll be there to help her get through it, and make sure she’s fully comfortable with the rehab plan. She says, rehab? and he says, she can’t snap her fingers, and think she can get herself back on track. She says, she was stressed, and he asks if she thinks this is the last time she’s going to feel that way. There are therapists who can help her deal with those triggers. She says, okay, she’ll go to therapy, and he says, rehab therapists. She says, she just wants to go home with him, and he says, she needs more than he knows how to give. He cares about her too much to pretend otherwise. He’d ask her to do it for him, but they both know it’s something she has to do for herself. Gladys pops in, and says, Sonny is here, but she can tell him Sasha isn’t ready for visitors. Sasha says, Brando should go talk to him. Thank him for coming, but tell him she’s not ready. Brando asks her to think about what he said, and leaves.

Sonny asks how Brando is holding up, and Brando says, he appreciates Sonny coming by, but now is not a good time. Sonny says he understands, and asks if there’s anything he can do. Brando says he wishes Sonny knew how to get through to Sasha, and Sonny says, Brando will figure it out. Just keep showing her that he loves her, and he’s going to be by her side. Eventually, she will start listening.

Trina tells Rory, she and Spencer were never together. Spencer has absolutely nothing to do with what’s going on between them. Rory asks what that is exactly? and Trina says, let’s be real. Her trial starts tomorrow, and she’s no closer to proving Esme set her up. If she’s convicted… He says, that’s a huge if, and she says, if she is, what future can they possibly have?

Drew says, Olivia definitely loves her husband, and she says, damn right she does. He says he just hopes she sees he was trying to do what was right by the family. He didn’t deserve what Ned did. She says, that’s the thing. It’s not about who deserves what. These are Quartermaines. He says, for better or worse, and she says, a lot of times it’s for the worse. Do they love each other? Yes, they do, but they just can’t help giving in to their worst impulses. He says, he thought they could come together against Valentin. Instead, Ned turned against them. She says, that kind of thing is going to happen again and again. And when it does, Drew has a choice to make. He can either hang on to his bitterness and drive the family further apart, or choose to forgive. You bring together the people you love. He says, until the next time someone stabs you in the back, and Olivia says, that will happen. That’s just the way it is. She wishes that wasn’t the case, but she can accept it. So can he. Carly comes in, and Olivia asks how she’s doing, hugging her. Carly says she doesn’t know. The most surreal, twisted thing just happened.

Sonny tells Brando that he’s got go; he’s sorry. Is Brando going to be all right? Brando says, he thinks so, and they hug. He thanks Sonny again for coming, and Sonny goes to the elevator just as Nina is coming out.

Nina says she’s here to check on Sasha. She’s guessing that’s why he’s here too. He says he wants to talk to her in private, and tells Dex to give them a minute. She asks if something is wrong, and Sonny says, come on, taking her hand and walking her down the hall. Dex sits next to Brando, and says he’s sorry about Brando’s wife. Brando thanks him, and Dex says, she’s going to be okay. Brando says, no offense, but Dex doesn’t know that, and Dex says, the odds look good with the support system she’s got. Between Brando and Sonny, they’ll get her through whatever’s going on. Brando says he wishes he had Dex’s confidence, and Dex says, Brando’s a vet, right? Brando says, Marines; he fought in Iraq. Dex says, so Brando’s seen and experienced some rough stuff, and he’s still here. Brando says he heard Dex is a vet too, and Dex says, Army; Afghanistan. Brando says, whereabouts? He had a buddy who was stationed in Bagram for a while. Dex says, they were there too, which isn’t that big a coincidence, since most of them got sent there. Then they sent them to Kandahar. Brando asks how many tours Dex did, and Dex says, just the one.

Sasha says she needs Gladys to have her back on this. Gladys saw how she stopped taking the pills the first time. Gladys says, she didn’t stop for long, but Sasha says she’s learned her lesson. She can’t push herself at work anymore. Going forward, she’s going to make a point to take more downtime. Gladys says, Sasha is acting like it’s no big deal, and Sasha says, it isn’t. Gladys says, Sasha had a break in reality on national television, and Sasha says, that part was a big deal, but that was an isolated incident. They forced her to model a baby carrier. Gladys says, all right. So Sasha is just going to go through the rest of her life being triggered by infants and anything related to them? It’s clear Sasha hasn’t processed losing Liam, not to mention everything she’s been through since. Why is she fighting this? Get the help she so obviously needs.

Marshall and Portia sit down, and Marshall says he’s been meaning to thank her. She says, for what? and he says, for allowing him to stay with her and Curtis. He’ll be out of their hair as soon as he’s able. She says, there’s no rush, and he says, it’s a hell of a time. With Trina’s trial, and now all this… She says, it’s fine. They love having him. He thanks her, and she says, there’s something she wants to tell him too. She’s well aware of the stigma of mental illness, even to this day, and it took a lot of courage to open up to them about his diagnosis. He says, better late than never, and she says, she thinks so. Doesn’t he? He says he’s grateful things are finally okay with him and his son, and she says, schizophrenia usually presents itself in the early 20s, so he must have been living with symptoms for a while before he realized what they were. He says, mainly paranoid, thinking the government was watching him. And actually, that wasn’t going on that long before his arrest. She says, paranoia was his only symptom? and he says, it’s possible he wrote off some other things, but he doesn’t think anything abnormal. Curtis comes back, and Portia says, please tell her that his contact found something that can help Trina.

Olivia says, Nina bought Carly’s half of the hotel? and Carly says, as a gift for her. Isn’t that sweet? Drew asks, what’s the angle? and Carly says, there are tons. Mainly she wants to ease her conscience for the hell she unleashed on Carly and her family, but as always, all roads lead to Wiley, so she’s sure Nina is just doing this to ingratiate herself with him. Olivia asks what Carly said, and Carly tells her that she said hell no. Olivia says she figured, and Carly asks if she’s surprised. Olivia says, no, but part of her wishes Carly had taken Nina up on it. Carly says she’s sorry. They were partners, and she made a decision that left Olivia twisting, but no matter how bad she feels, she can’t accept Nina’s offer; she won’t accept Nina’s offer. Olivia says she sympathizes; she gets it. It’s just the thought of running this place with her… She’s got to go. She promised to tuck Leo in. Carly tells Olivia to kiss him for her, and Olivia says, of course (🍷). They’ll talk tomorrow. She leaves, and Drew says, Carly is committed, he’ll give her that. She said she was going to dig herself out by herself, and look at her; offer number three turned down flat. Carly says, Nina accused Michael of being violent towards women in open court. She could be starving and destitute, and she wouldn’t accept a damn dime from that woman. He says he gets that. So what’s the plan now?

Nina tells Sonny, stop freaking her out, and he finally stops walking. He asks if she bought Carly’s half of the MetroCourt, and she says, yes, and she’s actually surprised he didn’t beat her to it. He says, Carly doesn’t want his help. Why? She says, why did she buy Carly’s half of the hotel? She wanted to give it back to Carly. He says, and? and she says, Carly accused her of being self-serving. Sonny asks, can Nina blame her?

Curtis says his guy emailed him a list of all the known associates of the bartender, and the addresses. Taggert is going to help him check them out. Portia says, that’s wonderful, and Curtis says, by tomorrow morning, they should have all the evidence they need to fight these charges against Trina and end this ridiculous nightmare. Marshall says they should get started, and Curtis says, it’s late. He suggests he take Marshall home and he’ll get started on the leads himself, but Marshall says, not happening, and Portia says, really? Marshall says he’s lost enough time with his family. He doesn’t intend to waste anymore, and she and Trina are part of that family now. Curtis says, how do you argue with that? Marshall says, you don’t, and they leave.

Rory says, everything will work out, and Trina asks how he knows. He says, because he has faith they’ll get the answers they need to exonerate her, and she says, that means more to her than he knows. But until the trial is behind her… He says, she’s going to take life one day at a time? and she says, it’s more like hours at this point. He says, so how about for the next couple of hours they just enjoy the here and now. No worrying about the future or what tomorrow will bring. Her, him, and the pleasure of each other’s company. What does she say? She tells him, she says yes. They hold hands, and look up at the sky. He asks if she knows anything about the stars or constellations, and she says, just that they’re beautiful. He says, they really are, and they gaze at the stars.

Sasha asks if Gladys knows how frustrating it is to keep telling people you’re fine and no one believes you. She doesn’t need to be shipped off to rehab. Gladys says, they just want what’s best for her, and both Brando and Doc think she would benefit from more specialized treatment. Sasha says, and it doesn’t matter what she thinks? and Gladys says, of course (🍷) it does, but maybe it’s a good idea to get some outside opinions; not to mention, professional ones. Sasha says she appreciates them trying to help, but they’re wrong. She does not need to go to rehab, and in 24 hours, it won’t be anyone else’s decision but her own.

Dex tells Brando, he enlisted right after high school. He doesn’t regret serving, but he almost died so many times, he lost count. Brando says he knows what Dex means. A guy near you that dies, and you didn’t; is there a reason, or was it just random? Either way, what are you supposed to do with the life you got to keep? Dex says he decided not to tempt fate. When his tour was up, he got out. He’s going to grab some coffee. Does Brando want anything? Brando says, no, and Dex leaves.

Carly says she doesn’t have a plan, but hell will freeze over before it involves Nina Reeves, and Drew says, copy that. She decided what was important to her, and she stuck to it. That takes guts. She says, or a serious stubborn streak, and he says, that too. She says, it’s just that her family is really all she has right now. She’s not going to risk losing them for anything or anyone. He asks if they need to do another toast to rising again, and she says she’d settle for just finding her way. Right now she’s feeling really lost, and she doesn’t like the feeling because it’s foreign, and it’s scary, and it’s not her. He says he knows, and holds her.

Nina says, she expects Carly to think the worst of her, but not Sonny, and he says, that’s not what he meant. She and Carly have been going at each other’s throats; that’s their history. Why wouldn’t Carly think she’s self-serving? Nina says, he has a point, but Carly’s not 100% wrong. She bought Carly’s half of the MetroCourt because she was trying to repair some of the damage she caused. He asks if she’s being serious, and she says, yes. Which would not only make her feel better, but she wanted to maybe make things easier for them to move forward. All that pain. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was behind them? He says, it is better she bought it than someone else. They can’t undo the past; they can only make peace with it. She says, has he? and he says, he hasn’t been clear with her lately; things have been up in the air. But he does want to be with her. Whatever it takes; wherever it leads them. He’s all in. She touches his face, and he kisses her.

Tomorrow, Ava says, it’s time Trina told them what the evidence is; Laura asks if she has reason for concern; Victor says, since Valentin failed, he’s taken matters into his own hands; and Spencer tells Esme that something is going to rock her world.

When we last left, LisaR was demanding if Sutton called Diana an MF’er and soulless. Sutton says, Diana was mocking her miscarriages, and we flash back to Diana saying, here we go with the big blue. Teary at the end, blah-blah-blah. LisaR says, all she heard about was the MF’er and soulless. Garcelle says, LisaR wasn’t at the party, and Erika says, LisaR talked to Diana. Sutton says, she and Diana had started to connect, but LisaR says she doesn’t think Diana got the same takeaway. Sutton says, for her, it felt real, and in Sutton’s interview, she says, they left the conversation in a good place, she thought. We flash back to that, and Sutton says, she was trying to relate to Diana. Kyle says, Diana thought her apology was phony, and that’s where she stepped in. Garcelle says, Kyle jumped ship pretty quick, and we flash back to the party, and Garcelle saying, Diana has a chip on her shoulder that has nothing to do with her, followed by Kyle saying, Diana does not have a chip on her shoulder. Kyle says she’s not jumping ship; they’re all on the same ship. Garcelle insists it felt like Kyle jumped ship, and in Kyle’s interview, she says she makes her own decisions based on how she feels. She doesn’t know where this is coming from. Maybe from the last 11 seasons, where Kyle’s feelings jumped ship every five minutes? They go inside, and mess with Sutton’s phone, finding her a match on Bumble. Sutton says she’s not looking to find a date on Bumble, and in her interview, she says, she’s not here to chat. She wants to see them face-to-face, in a crowded room, with Josh stalking her so it doesn’t get rapey. It happens. Someone says, they have a taker, and Sanjit appears on Sutton’s phone. They all say hi, passing the phone around, then put the phone in Sutton’s face. In her interview, Kyle says, it’s a recipe for disaster, but a fun disaster, and one she wants to be part of. Sutton says she likes Sanjit; he’s normal and smart. She tells the women, don’t scare him. Not until they’ve had at least one date. She apologizes to Sanjit, who seems to be a good sport, and they plan to talk later. In Garcelle’s interview, she says, not that she’s watching Erika, but she said she was going to have one drink. We flash back to Erika drinking, and Garcelle holds up three fingers. She asks if she and Erika can have a conversation, and Erika says, sure. Garcelle says, they were having a good time at her birthday, and Erika’s liquor level was beyond, but under no circumstances should she curse out, not just a kid, but her kid. In Crystal’s interview, she says, as a mother, she completely understands. Erika owes Garcelle a genuine apology. We flash back to Crystal hustling Jax away from Erika at the party. Erika says she agrees and takes full responsibility. She was sh*t talking, and treating the teenagers like adults. It was wrong, but it didn’t come from a bad place. It wasn’t vicious, but it was wrong. Garcelle says, seeing her on the boat in Mexico, then seeing her at the party, Erika needs to balance her meds and her cocktails. Erika says she’s on a new med that makes her sleepy, and Kyle jumps in, saying she’s never seen Erika lose her composure, so she should be cut some slack. Garcelle says, this is what she means by jumping ship. She’s having this conversation with Erika; she’s not talking to Kyle. In Kyle’s interview, she says, Garcelle isn’t 100% wrong, but is she happy Erika is letting her hair down, and not being as guarded? Absolutely. I guess it doesn’t occur to this dimbulb that Erika’s reasons for drinking like that might not be good. Sheree (not that one) says, in this moment, Garcelle needs Kyle to be neutral, and Erika admits to having a few too many sneaky margaritas. And before she insulted Garcelle’s twins, she’d complemented them, saying how well-spoken they were, and not acting like teenagers absorbed in their phones. Sutton says, they were raised right, and Erika says, it’s a testament to Garcelle, and I think, nice move. In Garcelle’s interview, she says, it’s great when a stranger compliments you on your parenting, but even better when it’s a mom who knows what it’s like doing it alone. She’s still annoyed, but Erika scored a point. I’m actually surprised Garcelle isn’t thinking like me. Not only did Erika know she’d score a point, she steered the conversation in a different direction. Erika says she’d still do Oliver, and Sheree says, her too. Garcelle says she’ll have to watch both you heifers, and she’s not bringing him around anymore.

I miss what store it is, but it’s like athletic shoe world, a massive wall of shoes, and shelves upon shelves of shoes. Garcelle is there with Jax and Jaid, and in her interview, she says, labels are important, more to some than others. We flash back to a Dorit head-to-toe designer moment, and Garcelle says, Jaid is all about fashion, but Jax couldn’t care less. She sees a pair that are $2200, and tells Jaid, move away from the Diors. She sees a pair for $9800, and in her interview, she wonders, what does it do? Does it do the dishes? The laundry? She tells Jaid that he can’t go over $500, and in her interview, she says, she never in her life thought she’d pay $500 for a pair of shoes. When Jaid was 11 and asked for Gucci, she told him, absolutely not. We flash back to 2019, and Garcelle tells her sons, get a job, and Jaid says, but we’re 11. She says she can’t address her life now; it’s too big. She would never have thought of it. We flash back to some Garcelle moments, and she says, coming from where she does and now having money, she’s proud of what she’s able to do. Jaid picks out a pair for a conservative $300, and in her interview, Garcelle says, when she and Mike broke up, the odds were against her; an older mother with two babies, who didn’t have much. People thought she wouldn’t be able do it. Jaid keeps looking and finds a Yeezy pair for $650. In Garcelle’s interview, she tells us, she’s proud to say she raised three solid young men, who are sweet and compassionate. They deserve a splurge now and then.

It’s Christmastime in Beverly Hills, and we see all the lights. It’s also Hannukah at Kyle’s house. Mauricio dances in, and you know he’s high. Dorit and her kids join them, sans PK, who’s working in London. In Dorit’s interview, she says, it brings back scary thoughts. PK was in London when the home invasion happened, but it’s very important that she keep things normal for her kids, She’s grateful for Kyle being around the corner. It’s a safe environment, and keeps her anxiety at bay. Mauricio’s parents, sister, and brother-in-law arrive, and in her interview, Dorit says, Hanukkah is probably her favorite holiday. She grew up with the Jewish traditions, and now she wants her kids to experience them. One of the boys tells the Hanukkah story before they light the candles, and it’s very cute. In Kyle’s interview, she says, growing up, she didn’t know what the Jewish traditions were, but when she made a commitment to the faith, she wanted to bring them into her home, and celebrate the holidays. Seeing Dorit happy, relaxed, and enjoying Hanukkah makes it mean a lot more now to have these special moments with friends and family. Mauricio tells Dorit that they’re her second family, and Dorit says she’s grateful.

Diana’s son Innis comes by with his girlfriend Ava. Innis says, Diana’s dream is to have him live across the street, and in Diana’s interview, she says she loves having a full house. Her father was an orphan, and had no family. He talked about his loneliness, and how special family is. Losing her brother, she understood that time with her kids is irreplaceable. Ascher (her fiancé? Her husband? I forget) wonders if it’s a culture thing that Diana doesn’t want her kids to go anywhere. Diana says, growing up, there were a bunch of cousins, and everybody had a plot of land. Innis says, it’s an American thing for kids to move away, and in her interview, Diana says she’s glad her kids have seen how the rest of the world lives. They’re lucky to be able to visit her parents in Bosnia. They taught her kids the language and culture. Her daughter Eneya lives in England, where she does horseback riding. Eneya is different from her; she’s allergic to horses. They call Eneya, who says she’ll be riding for Bosnia in March. Her dad is with her, and Diana says, she has a good dad, and in her interview, she says, she selfishly loves having her family with her. She’s hoping Eneya rides in California, so they can spend time together. Her home is important; she likes it to be warm and welcoming. Despite some people thinking she’s rude and cold, her family wouldn’t agree she’s cold. Rude is questionable. See? I want to like her, but…

Kyle meets Garcelle and Sheree for lunch. Sheree talks about going to Sutton’s boutique, and says, they sat and had some girl talk. She’s trying to understand, and Garcelle says, she’ll catch on. Garcelle tells Kyle that she was having a one-on-one with Erika, and wanted a moment with her. It’s not about not wanting Erika to have fun. Erika’s drinking is becoming a lot. In Garcelle’s interview, she says, Erika suggested a threesome to her older son, told her younger son to f*** off, and almost fell off the boat. We flash back to all those things, and Garcelle says, that’s not just, she’s a little tipsy, get her an Uber. What more does Kyle want it to be? Kyle says, Erika was being free and letting her hair down, but Garcelle asks if Kyle doesn’t think it could lead to alcoholism. Doesn’t she think it’s a problem? Kyle looks at her like Garcelle has two heads with her mouth hanging open, then says she thinks that’s dramatic. Garcelle asks if she doesn’t think Erika drinking when she takes meds is a problem, and in Kyle’s interview, she says she does have past experience on this topic. We flash back to the infamous limo scene, and LisaR saying, Kim is close to death. Kyle says she’s learned from those experiences, and those kinds of words hurt people. Apparently she can’t tell the difference between dramatics and actual concern. Garcelle says, Erika said she was on new meds, and Kyle says she takes Lexapro, but it’s a small dosage. It’s not a big thing. Since she doesn’t add something like, Erika’s on the same meds, I don’t know if this applies, or she’s just talking out of her ass. Sheree says, someone saying what Erika did to someone’s sons is a person not in control, and in Garcelle’s interview, she says she dealt with Oliver’s addiction, and watching someone going down a dark path is hard, especially someone you love. Erika’s not at that point, but she thinks they need to do something before it gets bad. Sheree says she sees both sides. Erika’s been through a lot and she’s bringing the wall down, but Garcelle’s point is valid too. Garcelle says, it could be dangerous. If they see a problem, she thinks they should nip it in the bud.

Diana and assistant Lia are on a mission to get rid of Diana’s storage. Lia says it seems overwhelming, but it’s not that bad. We see pictures of Diana with Elton John and Lady Gaga, and in her interview, she says she lives a big life. She goes to a lot of parties, and has a lot of friends. A producer asks, what’s the craziest thing that’s happened at one of her parties? and she says she had a rock star beat up a prince. But she’s not going into names. Lia suggests, except for what she wants to save for her daughters, she donate the rest, and in Diana’s interview, she says, to help others is a huge honor. When she was a refugee, she was on the receiving end. Her parents were at the mercy of charities for years. She gets involved in things she doesn’t even understand, but as long as it helps someone, she’s in. That’s nice, but if she doesn’t understand it, how does she know it’s really helping someone? Erika comes over, and they give each other not-a-fake hug. Erika drools over the clothes and accessories, and in her interview, she says, there’s easily a million bucks in this room. She had things like this her entire adult life, and right now life has changed for her. She doesn’t feel jealous or bad. Life can’t be solely pinned on the value of material things. If she wants something, she can get it. She’s not broke broke. She sold a lot of her collection, but it’s fine. I dunno. It sure sounds like it’s really not. Erika says, Diana missed Sutton’s party, and Diana says she woke up feeling like her head was going to explode. Erika says, it was a topic, and they have champagne. She says, Sutton told them at the table what happened at the party, leaving out the part where LisaR brought the topic up. Diana says, she thought she’d seen it all, then met Sutton. Why does Sutton want to not like her? Erika says she got in trouble last year. Garcelle and Sutton were her biggest critics, but Sutton pulled the worst out of her. Diana says, in the first five minutes she was in the group, Sutton had a fight with nearly everyone; it can’t be her. In Erika’s interview, she says, Sutton poked a major f***ing bear. Sutton might think things are good, but they ain’t with Diana. She doesn’t think Sutton can survive that confrontation. She says she told Sutton that she thought she and Diana got off on the wrong foot, but she can fix it. We see a clip of Erika telling Sutton to give Diana the benefit of the doubt. Sutton says, she doesn’t tell a lot of people about her miscarriages, and Diana made fun of her. Erika tells her, try again. Erika tells Diane that Sutton was sh*tty to her, and she didn’t swipe it under the rug, but she can live with it. Diana asks how she learns to forgive and forget, but Erika says she doesn’t.

In Kyle’s interview, she says, when you’re born and raised in L.A., and it’s 90 degrees on Christmas, you get desperate for snow. She doesn’t have it, so she’s going to create it. We see a snow machine pumping snow into her yard. She calls Erika, and says she had snow brought to the house. She wishes Erika could be here tomorrow for the Children’ Hospital benefit with Jamie Lee Curtis. Erika says, Diana’s on her way to lunch with Sutton, and Kyle says, that’s interesting, twirling her mustache. In Sutton’s interview, she says, she’d thought she and Diana ended on a good note, but LisaR inserted herself, so now she’s going straight to Diana. She calls Garcelle from the car, and says she thinks Diana will be tricky. Garcelle says, you can’t be in this group and hold a grudge because someone yelled at you. Sutton says she can come across as harsh, but she’s complex, funny, witty, and a good friend. She promises to give Garcelle a full report.

Sutton and Diana hug, and I don’t know about fake, but it seems halfhearted. Diana asks what they do, and Sutton says, have some lunch and talk about what they need to talk about. She wonders where to start, and Diana suggests the beginning. Sutton says, they can Sound of Music this, but since she wants to go back, Diana had said her words were clumsy before she even knew Sutton. We flash back to Diana saying that, and Diana says she was trying to give Sutton the benefit of the doubt, thinking she doesn’t mean to hurt with her words. But she’s changed her mind. She thinks Sutton means what she says. Sutton says she’s there to make peace, and come to an understanding. She doesn’t want Diana to be mean and shoot daggers. She wants to be civilized. Diana says, the way Sutton provoked her at the party was inappropriate, and Sutton says, it was wrong of her to be sarcastic. Diana says, some things aren’t up for sarcastic remarks. Sutton says, what she did wasn’t right, and she’s willing to say that, but she needs Diana to say that what she did wasn’t right; mocking Sutton’s miscarriages. Diana says, it’s how Sutton said it, but Sutton says she was sincerely trying to bond, and Diana is rolling her eyes. Diana says, Sutton isn’t genuine, and she feels like she needs professional help to communicate with Sutton. Sutton says, if Diana doesn’t think she’s sincere, Diana has a problem. She doesn’t share her miscarriages with many people. Diana says, Sutton threw it in there like she was raising Diana two. It’s too heavy of a subject. Sutton says, how dare Diana? and Diana says, everything goes back to Sutton. Sutton says she was speaking on behalf of all women who have miscarried, and Diana asks if she’s the world’s miscarriage spokeswoman. Sutton says, Diana is delusional, and Diana says she gave Sutton the fakest hug in her life, and Sutton thought it was sincere. She couldn’t wait to shake Sutton off. Sutton asks, who’s fake now? and Diana says she is. In Sutton’s interview, she says, Diana has a problem with herself. She’d choose dealing with Erika over Diana, Sutton says she had no idea, and it was sh*tty of Diana. Diana shrugs, and Sutton says, shame on her. Diana says, for what? Not letting Sutton walk on her and abuse her? Huh? Diana asks if Sutton thinks she can provoke someone, and yell and say mean things, then hug it out 10 minutes later. She cut Diana deep, and if Diana said it was all good, it would be fake. Sutton asks if Diana wants to move on or not, and Diana says, tell her how to move on in a way that’s not fake. Who is Sutton? Sutton says, she’s reactionary. She’s a hot head, but she’s a good friend, and loyal to the end. Diana says, so you say, and Sutton says, so I know. They go back and forth for a few rounds with that, and Sutton finally says she doesn’t know what to do. They’re playing ping-pong. She gets up and says she’s going to go. She has lots of Christmas cards to do. They can be pleasant at Kyle’s thing. Diana agrees, saying, it’s a charity event, and Sutton leaves.

I swear, I’m starting to need Tums or something during this show.

Next time, Jamie Lee Curtis; Crystal struggles with her eating disorder; Kathy returns; and Erika drinks… and drinks… and drinks.

🍝 On Top of Spaghetti…

Come on by tomorrow for soap (she says with trepidation) and something to Charm you. Until then, stay safe, stay doing your part for the environment, even if it’s just carrying a candy wrapper around in your pocket forever rather than littering, and stay knowing we can’t undo the past; we can only make peace with it.

August 18, 2021 – The Party Of the Summer Is Over, Questioning Erika & Radio

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nikolas says, someone set fire to Ava’s car, and Trina says, no. He says, Ava is shaken up, but Dr. Robinson is looking after her. Doc asks, where did it happen? and Nikolas says, at the hospital. Doc says, far from here; far from Spencer. Laura says, so Spencer is innocent. She wishes she could say the same for Nikolas. Nikolas tells them, he’s not sure what to say. He was so sure it was Spencer, and was horrified that he could be so cruel. Spencer says, so Nikolas decided to show hm what real cruelty looks like. Congratulations, father. Mission accomplished.

Jax sits at The Savoy, wondering what’s wrong with his phone, when Obrecht asks if she can join him. As friends, of course (🍷). She’s very much taken these days. He says he’d be delighted, but has to warn her, he’s not in the best mood tonight. She says then they won’t make banal small talk, and asks what’s troubling him.

Cameron tells Josslyn, he knew Spencer’s father might be mad about the party, but this is ridiculous. Should they go back inside and back him up? She says she thinks it’s a personal family matter, and they don’t want an audience, but the question is, should they extract Trina? Carly calls to Josslyn, and Josslyn thanks her for coming. She asks if Carly saw Tony; did he tell her what happened? and Carly says, he told her what happened from a security standpoint. She says hi to Cameron, and tells Josslyn, Tony said they weren’t in any physical danger, but it was an unstable situation, and he wanted her out of there. Josslyn says, they want to get out of there too. What happened here tonight, was all kinds of wrong.

At The Savoy, Sam asks if she can talk to Curtis a moment, and he asks, what’s up? She says she got a call tonight. The caller ID said it was an unknown caller, and it was a man’s voice. He said he was Drew.

Guard Russ asks how many times he has to tell Drew, he’s not leaving. Drew says, the law of averages is on his side. Russ has to stop him every time; he just has to get away once. Russ says he’s going to tell the boss. Maybe he’ll finally agree Drew is more trouble than he’s worth, and he’ll let him kill Drew. Drew says, tell his employer that he managed to steal Russ’s phone on his watch, he’s going to fire him. He’s got to look to his future. Russ says at least he has a future. That’s more than Drew can say. Drew says, all Russ has to do is give him a ride to the nearest airport, and tell him the name of the bastard who’s kept him locked up for two years. That’s it. Russ says he doesn’t look like a wealthy man, but Drew says he is. Russ says the world thinks he’s dead. (Which isn’t necessarily true, but okay.) If he made money double-crossing the boss, he wouldn’t live long enough to spend it.

Jason arrives for the meeting, and one of the family heads congratulates him on his exoneration. Some people have all the luck. Jason says, now that they’re all assembled here, he wants to discuss some recent actions by a member of the Novak family. Ms. Wu asks where his fiancé is, and Jason says, she couldn’t be here tonight. He’s speaking for the Corinthos Organization. She says she’s sorry. That’s unacceptable. When he called this meeting, it was their understanding that both he and Mrs. Corinthos would be there. He says he speaks for both of them, and Mr. Novak says, the last time their group met, Mrs. Corinthos proclaimed herself head of the Corinthos Organization. Jason says, as they all know, he was unavailable for that meeting. Ms. Wu asks why Mrs. Corinthos isn’t there tonight, and Jason says, something came up. She says, something more important than this meeting? He called this meeting, and they managed to make the time. I think, Carly has officially set women back by trying to prove you can’t have a career and children. He thanks them, and says, if time is an issue, he’ll be brief. Mr. Novak’s nephew Joey approached his fiancé’s daughter. That is unacceptable. Novak says, forget it. If Mrs. Corinthos isn’t coming, he’s not staying. He gets up, and Mr. Buscema says, neither is he. Jason says, it’s their choice. This meeting will continue, and repercussions will follow.

Curtis asks Sam to run that by him again, and she says she got a call from an unknown caller. Actually, she got two calls. The first call she got, she sent straight to voicemail since she thought it was a telemarketer. A little while later, she got another call, and that one, she picked up. It was a man’s voice on the phone, and he called her by her name, and said that he was Drew. He said he needed help. He said they were coming, and there was all this commotion, and the line went dead. She had one of Dante’s techs run the call, but they came up empty. He says, she went to the police? but she says, no. She and Dante happened to be together when she got the call. Dante thought it was just a hoax, or intended to throw her off the case. It makes sense, but she just doesn’t know. He says, Drew’s plane went down in the Gulf of Adan. There was a search, which turned up nothing. There were no signs of any survivors. She says, he was a Navy SEAL. If anyone could survive a plane crash into the ocean, it would be Drew. Curtis thinks Dante’s right, doesn’t he? He says he thinks what’s more important is what she thinks. Does she believe Drew is still alive?

Obrecht tells Jax, maybe his phone is just out of power. She finds phones get temperamental after a while. Has he updated? He says, it was just 98% charged a minute ago. He was hacked. He’s pretty sure he knows who it was. He drains his glass, and signals for another, and she says he wasn’t kidding about his mood. He says, sorry. He did try to warn her. She says she can think of only two things that cause such consternation; a woman or a child. She’s guessing the latter. Is his daughter all right? He says, very good, but Josslyn is fine. He just wishes Josslyn’s mother was as concerned as she is for her safety.

Josslyn tells Carly, they showed them the creepy writing in front of the fireplace, then Trina and Spencer came in, saying, Spencer had been stabbed. Carly asks how badly he was hurt, but Cameron says, he wasn’t actually stabbed. Josslyn says, it was a retractable knife, like a prop in a play. Spencer thought it was Ryan Chamberlain, until Nikolas came in and said he was behind it all. Carly says, Nikolas stabbed Spencer? and Cameron says, he wasn’t actually stabbed, but yes. His grandmother was very upset. Josslyn says, they were headed for a dysfunctional family trainwreck, and Cameron tells Carly, he never thought he’d say these words, but he feels bad for Spencer. Carly wonders, what the hell was Nikolas thinking?

Spencer says Nikolas turned against him once again. He guesses he shouldn’t be surprised; it’s not the first time it’s happened. He never should have come back. Nikolas tells him, please don’t say that. He never turned against Spencer. Spencer says, Nikolas never chose him either. He’s just supposed to live with whatever horrible decisions Nikolas makes. Roll with the punches, and suck it up in the end. His neglect was hard enough to deal with, and now he wants to dole out the punishment too? Nikolas says he wanted Spencer to understand how damaging his actions have been, but Laura says, the incident tonight with Ava’s car proves he was wrong. Even if he’d been right, he took this way too far. He chose to terrorize his own son and his friends to teach him a lesson. There’s no excuse. Spencer says, it’s obvious Nikolas will always choose Ava over him, and Nikolas says, it wasn’t about choosing Ava. Spencer says, oh please. Nikolas was afraid he’d drive Ava away, and he decided to retaliate. Nikolas starts to protest, but Doc says, Spencer’s not wrong. His actions are more those of a thwarted lover than a concerned father. Nikolas says, was he angry when he thought Spencer was behind everything? He was furious, but he was also concerned, and wanted Spencer to see the error of his ways, so they could get it out in the open, and hopefully move past it and move forward together. Spencer starts to cry, and says Nikolas decided to invoke his mother in order to manipulate him, telling him to be the man she would want him to be. Nikolas says he’s sorry, and Spencer says, just because Nikolas decided that he’s guilty. Nikolas says he pushed too hard. He was wrong. Please forgive him. He loves Spencer. Spencer tells Nikolas not to call him his son, and don’t claim to love him. He storms out, and Laura says, Nikolas almost had him; his son was back. He let his rage blind him, and decided Spencer was the stalker, that Spencer was the one who took Ava from him. Spencer was right; Nikolas decided to retaliate. He thought his way was the only way, the very definition of arrogance. And where has it gotten him? For God’s sake, now is he willing to listen to her?

Nikolas says, he never meant… and Laura says, stop. He could have just paused for a moment, and thought it all the way through. She hoped he’d be able to see how disastrous this could be, but no. He wanted to do what he wanted to do, and even Ava couldn’t talk him out of it. How did he think this thing was going to turn out? He says he hoped Spencer would admit what he did, and she says, he didn’t do it. Was Nikolas so intent on making him pay, he didn’t even consider Spencer might be innocent? The damage he could do if he was wrong? She wants to be with her grandson now; he’s in pain. Doc suggests they let Spencer have some time. Trina’s with him, and it might be easier for him to process this with a friend; someone who isn’t family. Carly comes in, and asks if Nikolas has lost his mind.

Trina asks if Spencer is okay, and he says, a party’s not a party until someone gets stabbed. She says he doesn’t have to do that, and he says, do what? She says, be all cavalier about what just happened, or pretend his father didn’t just break his heart. Spencer says, he really hates me.

Drew says, this is progress. He made a phone call. Sam picked up. Of course (🍷) Sam thinks he’s dead, but it’s not the first phone call she’s gotten from a dead man. She’ll start asking questions. Come on, Sam. Ask questions. He wants to go home. He misses his little girl so much. He flashes back to talking to Scout, who’s in an incubator. He says, she had a bumpy ride, didn’t she? She’s probably wondering where her momma is. She would be there if she could, but for now, Scout gets him. He’s her daddy. He’s been waiting and waiting for her. He’s going to tell her a little secret. Not much scares him, but she does. He wants so badly to give her everything she needs. To love her and protect her. He’s going to make sure nobody hurts her. He’s going to give her the world. Back in the cell, he says he misses his little girl. Not so little anymore; he’s been gone so long. He wonders how tall she’s grown. He wonders what she’s like, and what makes her laugh. He’s so sorry. He didn’t mean to be gone so long. He promises her, whatever it takes, he’s coming home to her.

Sam tells Curtis, she honestly doesn’t know what to think. Logically, none of this makes any sense. He tells her to throw logic aside; what does she feel? She says she feels that she owes it to Scout to see who made that call. Danny too. Drew was a huge part of their lives. He says he gets it. He does miss his man, and wishes he was back. He could show Drew his nightclub, and they could argue over football games the way they used to. He was a good friend, but he has been gone a while. Where the hell has he been, and why did he wait until now to make contact?

Obrecht tells Jax, co-parenting can have many obstacles, especially when co-parents aren’t on the same page. She got lots of emails about this when she had her column in The Invader. (Speaking of which, who’s running that paper now?) However, she always thought he and Carly managed very well. He says, they did… until now. She asks if one of his obstacles happens to wear a black leather jacket, and he says he tried to make Carly see that some of her associations might be putting their daughter at risk. She asks if he regrets these actions, and he flashes back to his argument with Carly in the hallowed halls of the moss bowl.🎍 He tells Obrecht, only that it didn’t work.

Jason says, their leaving sends a clear message that they’re not interested in cooperation. That’s too bad, but he’ll adjust. Mr. Buscema sits back down, and says, forgive them for being confused, but it’s tough to do business when you’re not sure who you’ll be dealing with. Ms. Wu asks if Jason is challenging Mrs. Corinthos’s leadership. At the last meeting, she proclaimed she was head of the Corinthos Organization. Now he’s saying that he’s head of the organization. It seems the only way to solve this problem, is to eliminate Mrs. Corinthos.

Trina says, despite everything that happened, she doesn’t think Spencer’s father hates him. He asks if she’s okay with what Nikolas did, and she says, no; that was seriously messed up. His father honestly thought he was the stalker, and did all those horrible things to him and Ava. He says, for a moment, he thought she did too, and she says she admits she was shaken up, but he does hate Ava, and he’s made no bones about it. He asks what that even means, and she says he doesn’t hesitate to show his disapproval of her. He doesn’t want his father and Ava together, just like the stalker, but she should have known he wasn’t capable of something so twisted. He says, what if he was?

Russ comes into Drew’s cell, and says the boss wasn’t happy with his latest stunt. Drew says, so he told after all, and Russ says, stealing the phone was another pointless attempt on his part. Or does he really think Sam McCall is going to come for him? He heard Drew tried to convince her that he was still alive. He’d better pray she thinks it’s a crank call. If she decides to look for him, she’ll be dead before she leaves the US.

Curtis tells Sam, let’s not assume anything definite right now. Why don’t they go over this phone call? Tell him anything she remembers. She says, the caller said her name a few times, said his name was Drew… The connection was bad. He says, bad reception, like a call from overseas, and she says, yes. He asked if she could hear him. Curtis says, like he knew there might be bad reception, and she says, right. He knew he was calling with bad reception, asked if she could hear him, and then there was all this commotion. He asked for help, and then the line went dead. He says, commotion? Like there was a struggle? She says, maybe, and he says, other than the bad reception and the struggle, could she hear anything else in the background? She says, just static, and he says, whoever this guy is, he wants her to believe he’s Drew, and that he’s on the run from someone or something. He asks if she thinks he could have been running all this time, but she doesn’t know. Why wouldn’t he have tried to contact her earlier? He says, maybe this was his one shot to make a call before he was recaptured, or at least that’s what this guy wants her to believe. Does she?

Nikolas says he’s not in the mood right now, but Carly says, too damn bad. She had something really important planned for tonight, and had to race over there because she thought her daughter was in danger. Only to show up and find out he’s playing boogie man, trying to scare his son and his friends. He says, sorry for the inconvenience, but he’s not taking parenting lessons from her, of all people, or does she want to discuss why Josslyn had a bodyguard tonight? She says, thank God she did. Leave them out of his family drama. She has enough on her plate without his asinine decisions making her life more difficult. She apologizes to Laura and Doc, but Laura says, it’s really okay; it’s been a rough night all around. Carly says, they’re out of there, and leaves with Josslyn and Cameron. In the foyer, Josslyn asks her to wait. She can’t leave yet.

Jason says it sounds like Ms. Wu just threatened Carly, and she says, this isn’t a club. Their alliance is a carefully constructed balance of power; one built on mutually assured destruction. He says he knows what it is. If one of them goes down, they all go down. She says, yes, and when Mrs. Corinthos joined their ranks, she was made privy to information that could destroy every one of them. Jason says they can trust Carly, but she says, that hasn’t always been so. There were reports that she threw a valuable shipment of guns into the Port Charles harbor as a protest against their business. He says, that was a different time, different set of circumstances, and Ms. Wu says, yes. She’d since accepted Carly’s word that she’s changed, but here they all are, and she’s nowhere to be found. Perhaps she’s doing something more advantageous to her, like talking to the Feds. Jason says, that’s ridiculous, and she says, is it? The Feds have been circling the Corinthos family for a long time. Maybe the good widow decided to cut a deal so she can be free of them for good. Mr. Buscema says, Madam Wu might be right. What if Jason’s fiancé decided to cut them all down, so she’s in the clear? Ms. Wu assures Jason, if that’s so, there will be consequences.

Trina asks why Spencer is playing into this game. He didn’t do any of those horrible things, so why even go there? He says, he was just wondering, hypothetically, if he’d done those things to Ava and his father, would she hate him? She says, but he didn’t, and he says, what if he had? Would she be able to forgive him? She asks if this is about him and his dad? Is he trying to decide if he can forgive Nikolas after everything he’s done tonight? That’s not a decision she can make for him. He asks what she means, and she says when her dad first deceived her, when he pretended to be dead, she swore she hated him. She never wanted to see him again. Spencer says, been there, done that, and she says, but he got over it, like she did. But it took some time. He says, years, and she says, now his dad’s disappointed him again. He says, this goes so far beyond disappointment. He had to walk away earlier, because he actually wanted to punch the guy. He thought he was going to die tonight. When this knife came at him, he thought it was over, and he was done. What kind of father does that to his son? How is he supposed to forgive that? She says she’s so sorry he’s going through this, and he says, that’s it? That’s all she has to say? She asks if he was expecting something else, and he says she’s not going to tell him what to do?

Nikolas leaves a voicemail for Ava, saying, he knows she’s dealing with a lot right now, but call him. He needs to hear from her. Doc says he’ll go to GH and check on her, and Laura thanks him. She’s really worried about Ava, and wants to stay there a little longer. Can he take the boat and send it back to her? He kisses her goodbye, and leaves. Nikolas says she should have gone with Doc. He already feels terrible. There’s nothing she can say that will make him feel worse. She says she just wants him to understand how his thinking led to his actions, and he says he doesn’t want to lose his son again. Should he go to him? She thinks Nikolas has to give Spencer a little time to cool off. Maybe let Spencer come to him. He says he’ll be waiting a long time. Another three years; maybe forever. She asks what he thought was going to happen when he made the decision to stalk and stab Spencer? How could he possibly think that this was the right way to deal with his son? He says he thought Spencer was the stalker. It angered him, but it also scared him. He felt that he had to do something drastic to get through to him. He wanted Spencer to understand on a visceral level, by making him feel how he made Ava feel. She says, so he struck back at him. At his own son. Like any good Cassadine would.

Jax tells Obrecht, Carly and Jason’s marriage has been on his mind. He can’t believe she’d associate herself with another mobster now that Sonny’s dead. She had a chance to start fresh and stop putting Josslyn and her other kids in danger. Instead, she chose to double-down. She asks if he’s tried telling Carly how he feels, and he says he’s tried  talking to her. He went as far as trying to get leverage to force her out of that life. She gathers his phone is a casualty for his quest for leverage. There is an art to gathering covert evidence, you know. Lucky he’s come to a pro for some tips. She’d love to see Carly squirm. And Jason Morgan, even more so.

Josslyn tells Carly that she’s sorry, but they need to talk to Spencer. She heard Doc on his way out; Spencer ran off somewhere and Trina went with him. He’s probably devastated over what his father did. Carly says she’s sure he is, but she has to get back to the mainland. Josslyn asks Cameron if he can find Trina, and see if she needs a ride back. She’s going to stay and talk to her mom… alone. Cameron leaves, and Carly asks what she wants to talk about. Josslyn says, you. What’s going on? Did they interrupt something important?

Jason says, the idea of Carly going to the Feds is laughable. She’s known everything there is to know for years as Sonny’s wife. Mr. Novak says, Sonny’s dead, and Jason says he’s aware of that. He and Carly will be getting married. Ms. Wu says, will be, but they aren’t now, so Carly could be coerced to divulge what she knows about their operations with or without his consent. He just said she already knows everything. He can’t see the risk this poses to all of them? He says, there’s no risk. They’re sitting around speculating about something that’s not going to happen. Ms. Wu says, when and if they’re married, Carly can’t be compelled to testify against her husband. Fiancés don’t share the same legal protection. So he must understand, until he and Carly are husband and wife, Carly is a liability.

Trina says she’s not Yoda, and not there to tell Spencer what to do. He says, why not? Everyone else does. What to do, what to think, especially about his father and Ava. She says she has her opinions, but now’s not the time for them. She understands how it feels when your parents let you down. That’s why she followed him, to listen in case he wanted to talk. He thanks her, and she says, what are friends for? He asks if that’s what they are. Friends… buds… She says, why not? Cameron joins them, and Spencer asks what he’s still doing there. The party of the summer is over. He should hang on to that wristband; it might be worth something someday. Cameron says, Joss wanted to make sure he was okay. She also wanted to ask if Trina needed a ride back to the mainland. Trina says she’s good; she’ll take a launch back later. Spencer says he’ll make sure Trina gets back safely. The launch should be freed up, so Cam and Joss should be able to get back okay. Cameron says, Mrs. Corinthos brought her own boat, so… Spencer says, Carly’s here? She’s going to kill him for involving Joss in this mess. Cameron says she knows his father is responsible for all this; she let him have it. Spencer says, tell Joss he’s sorry tonight was a fail, but enjoy the novelty with his compliments. Cameron says, what novelty? and Spencer says, for once, he’s the innocent party.

Nikolas tells Laura, it’s true; he’s a Cassadine. There’s nothing she can do to change that. She says he just needs to tame these dark impulses he has. He has to recognize it and turn away from it, for Spencer’s sake. He says, or he’ll pass those traits on to Spencer. It’s too late for that. He’s not the stalker, but he has a cruel streak. She’s already seen that. She says she has. Spencer grew up with a sense of entitlement, just like Nikolas did, but it is not too late to change; to break the cycle of trauma. He could start by just setting a good example for Spencer. He says he’s trying, and she asks if that’s what he was doing when he decided to terrorize his son. When he made Spencer believe that he was going to stab him and kill him? If Nikolas isn’t careful, he’s going to end up going down the same path his father did.

Josslyn says she should have never asked Tony to call Carly. She’s sorry for pulling Carly away from whatever she had going on tonight, but Carly says she did the right thing. Josslyn and all her kids are her top priority. Josslyn says she just feels so bad for Spencer, and Carly says she does too. Josslyn asks why his father would do that, but Carly doesn’t know. She doesn’t think Nikolas has any idea what it’s like to be a parent. He grew up spoiled and selfish, and turned around and raised Spencer the same way. Cameron comes back, and tells them, Spencer said he’s fine and they should go. Carly says, works for her, and Josslyn says, what about Trina? Cameron says, she wants to stay, and Spencer will make sure she gets home okay. Carly says, she’s in good hands; let’s go. They follow her out.

Curtis says, if that phone call was fake, he’s really not okay with someone using Drew’s memory to get to Sam. Sam says, her neither. She’s had people from her past showing up to settle a grudge, but this didn’t feel like that. Why would someone want to send her on a wild goose chase looking for Drew? He says he doesn’t know. Does she have any big cases coming up, or a trial coming up soon? She says, Naomie Dreyfuss is the only thing she has going on right now, and clearing Shawn’s name, but she doesn’t see how it could be related to Drew. He says she still hasn’t answered his original question, and she says because she didn’t have an answer. Until now. The more she thinks about it, the way he spoke to her… his voice… it sounded real. She thinks it was Drew on the phone.

Drew says, Russ’s boss is targeting Sam? and Russ says, the boss has a long reach. They plucked him out of the ocean, didn’t they? Got him there without anyone realizing he survived that crash. They went to a lot of trouble to extract Drew from his life. He won’t hesitate to kill anyone sniffing around. Drew says, because he wants him alive. Russ is losing it. First the phone, now the loose lips… He probably needs a vacation. The stress of the job is getting to him. Russ says he’s not going anywhere, and neither is Drew. Drew slams him up against the wall.

Trina says she keeps picturing Spencer lying on the floor, and he says he’s sorry she had to deal with that. She says, it’s not his fault, and he says, still, he appreciates her listening to him. People don’t always do that. She says, it’s hard to hear him between all the flash and snarks, and he says, but she manages. He moves closer to her, and she says she hears him.

Nikolas asks if Laura thinks he’s as bad as his father, but she says, no. Stavros was insane. He was sadistic and cruel. He had no remorse, but Nikolas does, which means he’s capable of so much more. But the Cassadine instincts are so much a part of him, it terrifies her. He asks what she means.

Jax asks if he can walk Obrecht to her car, but she says, no need, and thanks him for the drinks and conversation. He says he should be thanking her for listening and for her support. She says he has it. And remember, come to her next time, if he wants to try again. She’s confident they can bring down Carly and Jason by working together. Auf wiedersehen.

Carly runs into the meeting like she’s late for a parent/teacher conference. Mr. Buscema and Ms. Wu nod to her as they leave, and Mr. Novak tells her, you’re too late, Mrs. Corinthos. He guesses he’ll have to get used to calling her Mrs. Morgan. He’ll be checking his mail for his invitation. She asks Jason, what happened? How’d the meeting go? He looks grim, but that could mean anything from the meeting was bad, to he wonders what they’re having for dinner.

Sam asks Curtis to tell her. She’s crazy, right? He says, no, she’s not. She’s level-headed, and has great instincts. If she says that’s Drew’s voice she heard, he’s going to trust her on that. She says, Drew’s alive. Scout’s father is alive.

Drew tussles with Russ, but Russ gets the better of him, and literally kicks him when he’s down. He tells Drew, one of these days, you’re really gonna piss me off, and I’m going to snap your sorry neck. Russ leaves, and Drew writhes in pain for a hot minute, then sits up looking at the pen he swiped off of Russ in the fight. He takes it apart, and gets to work on his handcuffs.

Tomorrow, Ava wonders if there’s anyplace left this psychopath can’t get to her; Laura tells Nikolas, one more terrible choice and he can lose everything; and Epiphany is back from vacation.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Sutton was concerned, wondering what they’d gotten themselves into, being supportive of Erika. She wasn’t sure how much she wanted to be around Erika, and said she was just protecting herself, lest there be guilt by association. In her interview, she said, Ruth Madoff had no friends. People don’t like liars, cheaters, and stealers. In LisaR’s interview, she said, a friend is going through something major, and you’re worried about your reputation? Princesses worry about their reputations; queens don’t. Who knows where the hell she got that fakakta bon mot. I’m pretty sure queens are on top of their PR. Dorit said they didn’t want their support to be misinterpreted, and Sutton said  there was a red flag years ago, when one of the partner’s wives told him something was off, and he left the firm. There was another escapee recently too, and some of the stories didn’t add up. Crystal said it seemed to have started three years ago, with Tom’s decline, but Sutton didn’t buy it. Dorit said the LA Times said the firm’s swindling had been going on for a decade. She didn’t know what to believe. Sutton pointed out that Erika was saying the same things Tom’s attorneys were saying, and in Sutton’s interview, she said, two plus two equaled four, and she wasn’t even good at math. LisaR said there was no proof that what Erika was saying wasn’t true, and believed her. In LisaR’s interview, she said that she knew she was going to get sh*t for not backing Denise, but supporting Erika, but she didn’t care. Dorit said Erika’s life was the opposite from what Erika had presented to them, and we flashed back to Tom tooting his own horn about being a do-gooder. Sutton said she didn’t think ignorance was an excuse when Erika was so smart, and thought the mistress discovery was a distraction. They agreed to ask Erika if she knew what had been going on. At Kyle’s holiday dinner. Another brilliant choice for a confrontation. In Kyle’s interview, she said she felt like the Grinch who was stealing Erika’s Christmas.

Garcelle did a huge Haitian family dinner, and the dishes looked so very good. In her interview, she talked about her oldest son Oliver, and how he’d been a drug addict. To see him now, as the father and man he’d become, was amazing. His partner/wife/not sure Sam had three kids from a previous relationship, and they had Oliver Jr. together, who was quite a cutie. They’d become a family. She told Oliver that she couldn’t believe he was a dad, and he said the diaper in his pocket made it official. Garcelle said you couldn’t pay her to deal with four kids in quarantine. When they said they wished she lived closer, she said she was good. Meanwhile, Kyle told Dorit that Teddi would be coming to the dinner, and Dorit suggested plying her with alcohol, since she was no longer pregnant. Kyle said Erika was also coming, and Dorit said they’d have to figure out a way forward. First world 1% problems. Kyle said she wanted to be supportive, but had questions.

It was Christmastime in Beverly Hills, but it’s just not as pretty as it is on RHONY.

Garcelle thoght Teddi was annoying for no reason. I think she’s annoying too, but I can think of plenty of reasons. LisaR wore her wig named Heather, and Kathy ho-ho-ho’d her way in, saying she was discombobulated, which I thought was her natural state. Teddi talked about baby Dove’s neurosurgery, and we saw clips of Dove in her little helmet at 10 months. Kyle got lots of free booze as hostess gifts, and she wondered if Erika would skip out at the last minute. LisaR reminded everyone, innocent until proven guilty, and said Erika might not be able to answer questions because of legalities. Kyle thanked Erika for coming, and Erika thanked Kyle for having her, since she was a little radioactive these days.

They sat down for dinner and a ticking time bomb. Sutton bugged Garcelle about saying hello to Erica, and in Garcelle’s interview, she said she hadn’t seen Erika since Erika had flipped out on her. Sutton asked if Garcelle was nervous to talk to Erika, and Garcelle said it was awkward, but she wasn’t afraid. Kyle made a full Christmas dinner, and told the women, there was no chef. She’d put her heart and soul into it. LisaR said it was like Christmas on a plate. Erika thanked Kyle for inviting her, and Kyle said she wasn’t just there for the good times. In her interview, Kyle said seeing Erika down like that made her feel bad. She wanted to be able to support her, but with a clear conscience. Kyle gave a toast to happy holidays, and a special thank you to Erika for coming. She hoped 2021 would be better than 2020, as we all did. Kathy toasted to health, happiness, and the best to everybody. Erika said her doctor did tell her she was healthy, so there was that. I’ll bet a lot of people would give everything for that. Kyle asked if Erika ever wondered if it was a dream and she’d wake up, but Erika said she woke up thinking, this is really happening. She said she was so tired, and Dorit said she must keep being blindsided by everything that was coming out. Erika said, more is coming, and there were crickets for a moment. She added, it was far from done, and Sutton asked if she was truly blindsided, or did she have some sort of… Erika told her to go ahead and ask the question, and Sutton asked if she was able to get a heads up on the information about to come out before it hit the press. Erika said she had no access to that, and Sutton said she thought the timeline in the LA Times article was confusing. Crystal said Erika had told them about Tom’s deterioration, and what had happened three years ago. We flashed back to Crystal comparing it to her father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She said things had been happening with the firm further back than three years. Erika said she it was only recently litigated, and she couldn’t answer those questions. Dorit said no one was looking to pry, and in Garcelle’s interview, she said Dorit apparently didn’t remember being supportive when they had their sister circle moment. Dorit told Erika that they’d all met the other day. Sutton had asked them to get together.

Sutton said she’d wanted to see where they were, and Erika asked if it was a committee to discuss if they were supporting her or not. In Erika’s interview, she said, there were holes in the story, it’s what they heard; is this the grand jury? Sutton said she didn’t think Erika had anything to do with it, but wanted to make sure… and Erika said, that she addressed the allegations in the LA Times. In LisaR’s interview, she said Sutton was there, but left her spine at home, and told Sutton to be real. Sutton said Erika was going through a lot. She’d talked to an attorney… Erika said, about her case? and Garcelle said she didn’t think Sutton was the only one who got a legal opinion. Erika was like, who else? like anyone would confess, and Dorit said she spoke to her husband and Boy George. Erika asked what Dorit’s husband said, and Dorit said he told her they were by no means legally in trouble, but would be dragged in, like it or not. Kyle said they talked about the LA Times article, and thought it was likely Erika had no idea what was going on. Erika said that was true, and Sutton said she just wanted to make sure. She was protecting herself. Erika asked how she was involved, and Kyle said Sutton was worried about her reputation. In Sutton’s interview, she said she was on all kinds of boards and committees where it would not be cool for her if Erika was complicit. She told Erika that it was a personal issue, and Erika asked if Sutton was that afraid of her. Sutton said, no, but there was a $20 million elephant in the room. Why was the press saying it went to Erika’s LLC? Kyle said the obvious question was, did Erika know? but quickly added that she didn’t think so. In Garcelle’s interview, she said Erika’s answers seemed surface, and she wondered why Erika didn’t seem angry at Tom for being implicated in bad things. She needed Perry Mason or someone to try and explain. Sutton thought it seemed like Erika might have noticed or questioned things, and Dorit said the headlines were hard to digest. The thought of ripping off orphans and widows made her feel sick. Erika said if they wanted to know where the money was, talk to Tom. $50 to $80 million in cash was gone, and no one knew the answer but Tom. Dorit said most people believed Erika was innocent, and it would come out. Erika said it wasn’t nice to repeat things that weren’t true. In Sutton’s interview, she said she was disappointed in Dorit, since they’d been sympatico. We flashed back to a hot minute ago when Dorit was agreeing with Sutton, and saying they didn’t want their support misinterpreted. Teddi said everyone was making it about themselves, and a big portion of the had a lawsuit under their belt, and no one else was involved. She had to believe Tom was the a-hole. Sutton wondered if Erika had any discussion  with an attorney on how to navigate through the story. Dorit said she was getting uncomfortable, and I had to agree that was an intrusive question. Erika said she hadn’t, which I actually found hard to believe, and in Garcelle’s interview, she told us that Dorit had a lot to say when Erika wasn’t around, but now that Erika was there, Dorit did a 180. Now it was, I support you. <kiss, kiss> Garcelle told Erika, to be 100% honest, her sister had a kidney transplant, and was supposed to have been awarded money. She was concerned her sister had been stiffed, when her sister said it was just taking a long time. If what they said Tom did was true, f*** Tom. She personally knew what it was like to be waiting for compensation.

Erika said it was terrible, and Tom would pay the price if what they said happened, happened. He wasn’t mentally capable, and had sole control of the firm. She thought it got away from him. They were dealing with a man who had diminished capacity, who was in control and not doing the right thing. If he did steal the money, she wanted to know where it was. Dorit said if they didn’t love and care about Erika, there would be no situation. They all loved and cared about her. For some reason, this turned into a who-knew-Erika-longer thing, and Garcelle asked if it was a competition. The victims were the most important thing. Erika would always be okay. Erika said, of course. She wasn’t worried about herself. She was the last in this, and at the forefront were the people who were owed money. She needed to see what he’d done. LisaR wondered if they’d ever know, and Kathy thought they would get to it. Erika said it was going to be a long road. Those who wanted to be her friend, thanks, and if anyone was more comfortable away from her, she understood and respected that. In Erika’s interview, a producer asked if she felt strong, but she said she didn’t know if she was strong. She was just trying to put one foot in front of the other. She wouldn’t do herself any favors by being hysterical. She had to be calm, and work though all of this. Kyle said she felt bad about asking questions, but Kathy said it was good practice. BA-DUM-CHH! Erika said that was one way to look at it. In Kyle’s interview, she said the dinner was so awkward, she was looking for the eject button.

They moved to the living room for dessert, and Sutton took Dorit aside, asking if Dorit threw her under the bus. She and Dorit had the same feelings, but Sutton felt like, once in front of Erika, everyone disagreed. In Sutton’s interview, she said she felt like she’d been set up, and they’d decided to rally to Erika’s side. Everyone abandoned ship. They got her. Erika left, and in her interview, she said you really knew what people were made of when you were going through a troubled time. She didn’t know if the rat was leaving the ship, or she was leaving the rat.

Next time, LisaR shows Nona’s wedding dress to her daughters, Kathy and Kyle discuss American Woman, Dorit confronts Garcelle, and Garcelle tells everyone, f*** you.

June 9, 2021 – Finn Administers the Cure & Sedated

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava takes the knife out of the photo, and on the phone, Nikolas says he wants all eyes on Avery and her nanny. He wants every inch of the property searched. Whoever did this may still be on the island, or left some evidence of their identity. Ava says, there is no whoever. There’s only Ryan.

Britt walks into the hospital with Obrecht, and wonders, where’s the confetti and the balloons? Even a lousy welcome back banner. Obrecht tell her not to expect validation from menials, and Britt says, her staff aren’t menials. They’re highly valued personnel who save lives every day. Obrecht says Britt is too kind to people who will never appreciate the lengths she went to rid the hospital of Cyrus. Britt says, or they’re so focused on her brother’s murderous exploits, hers pale in comparison. Obrecht says, Peter is her half-brother. He shares no DNA with her. If she had he way, she would have rid the world of him years ago, but he’s still wreaking havoc today, causing misery wherever he goes. Thanks to Anna Devane.

Maxie looks at Brook’s MyFace page, and sees pictures of Bailey/Louise. She says, Bailey. Anna comes by, and asks how Maxie is feeling. Maxie says she didn’t sleep well, and Anna says, she didn’t ask for something? but Maxie says she wanted to be alert, in case Mac found Louise and brought her back. Anna says, but he never came, and Maxie says, no. Her daughter is gone. Another victim of Peter’s.

Willow says Chase is building her up to be more than she is. Of course (🍷) she wants to help him, and of course (🍷) she wants to see him through this, but… He says, what is it? She can tell him anything. She says, it’s just that… Finn runs in, and says he figured it out. He knows how to cure Chase. Chase says he’s joking, but Finn says, it’s real. Chase is going to be okay.

On the phone, Michael tells Nina that he and Willow have reconsidered. It’s time to give her seeing Wiley another go. They’ll make plans for another visit as soon as she likes. All she has to do is come back to Port Charles. Nina looks at Sonny, and Michael asks if she’s still there. She says she didn’t think she heard him correctly, and he says they’re willing to give her another chance with Wiley. Isn’t that something she’d want?

Nina says she’s never been more ready to see her grandson. He has no idea how she’s longed for this call. Michael  says, so he takes that as a yes? She says she’ll take any opportunity to see Wiley, and he says he’s glad to hear it. They’ll have a conversation about guidelines and boundaries as soon as she arrives. He asks when they can expect her, and she says she has a few obligations there. She might need a day or two. He says, whenever she’s ready; just let him know when she’s back. She says she’s just curious. What made him change his mind? He looks at Jax, and says he weighed the pros and cons, and made the best decision he could under the circumstances.

Chase wonders how long it will be before the cure is ready, and Finn says, not long. Chase says Finn told him not to get his hopes up, and now he says he has a cure. What happened? Finn says he got a new perspective. Everything just suddenly came together, and it dawned on him.

Elizabeth calls Jackie, who asks if it’s about Chase; has his condition changed? Elizabeth says, Chase is stable, but Finn wanted her to meet them at the hospital right away. It’s vital to Chase’s health. Can she meet them at Finn’s lab? Jackie says she’s leaving now.

Ava tells Nikolas, first a cockroach, then a plastic hand. Now he’s upped the ante with a delivery to their home. Nikolas says, this dagger (my bad) was removed from an alarmed case in this house. How did Ryan figure out the security code; how did he get that picture of them? The man can’t walk or talk. He’s a prisoner in his own body. She says, maybe it’s just what he wants the world to believe. She opens a paper in her hand and says, Ryan has left them another note.

Britt says she has a lot of patient reports to get through, and Obrecht asks if she should help Britt prioritize. Britt wonders if Obrecht is angling for her old job back, but Obrecht says she’d never exploit Britt’s situation for her own gain. Britt says she knows. She’s zinging Obrecht; it’s a reflex. She hopes they never lose the way they are together, and Obrecht says, never fear. She has no intention of devolving into maudlin sentiments. She asks if Britt plans on telling her staff about her diagnosis, but Britt says, no; her diagnosis stays between them. Got it? Obrecht asks, what about Jason? and Britt says, he won’t tell anyone. Obrecht is sure he won’t. Britt chose her confidant wisely. Britt looks at her tablet, and says, oh no. Obrecht asks, what’s wrong? and Britt says, Maxie was admitted last night.

Anna tells Maxie that she’s been working closely with Mac and the PCPD. They went to Peter’s office, and his hotel room, and searched them. They found his computer, and they’re going to go through his digital records, and everything else he left behind. She promises Maxie they’ll find him, but Maxie says, Peter escaped the hospital, despite the fact that police were crawling all over the place. Was he not seen on any security cameras? Anna says, it’s strange. The security footage didn’t pick up his exit, and his car is still in the parking garage. Maxie says, he didn’t just snap his fingers and disappear into a puff of smoke, and Anna says, there appear to be gaps in the coverage. The PCPD have put out roadblocks, and the FBI have been alerted in case he tries to cross the border, so there’s a statewide manhunt going on. Maxie asks why Anna is there, instead of out looking for him, and Anna says, because her priority is finding Maxie’s baby. They have the state police in Pawtuck, trying to pick up Chloe’s trail. Maxie says, that’s not even her real name. It’s going to be difficult finding Chloe. Anna says, what about the good Samaritan? He’s from the area, does she think he might have some information? Maxie says, no. Stop. Just forget about Louise.

Anna says Maxie has been through an ordeal, but surely Maxie wants her to keep looking for her baby. Maxie says, if anyone can find her baby, it’s Anna and Mac, but she knows how dangerous Peter is. It will never be safe for Louise until Peter is caught. So please make that her priority, and then they’ll worry about bringing Louise home. Anna says she’ll tell Mac that Maxie wants to focus on the search for Peter. Anything else? Maxie asks if Anna can find Dr. Navarro; she’d like to check out of the hospital. Anna asks if it’s not a bit soon, but Maxie says it’s not. James and Georgie need her. She doesn’t want them to feel like she abandoned them, like she did… Anna says, this is not Maxie’s fault. She doesn’t know why Maxie would think that. Britt comes in with Obrecht, and says, where is she? Where’s the baby?

Jax says he knows it wasn’t easy, but Michael made the right choice. Michael says, don’t patronize him. Jax says he’s being honest. Having Nina in his life will only benefit Wiley, although it didn’t seem like Nina jumped at the chance to see her grandson. Michael says, she was surprised. He thinks she’d given up hope of ever seeing her grandson again. Jax asks if that was all, and Michael says, it seemed like she made a new life for herself away from Port Charles and everyone in it. A life good enough might make her think twice about walking away from it. Jax says at least Nina has a choice, and Michael says, Nina has a choice because Jax took his away from him.

Nina kicks back a shot, and puts her head on the bar. Sonny asks if she wants another one, but she declines. He says, funny how she does that; make good news look bad. When they first met, she told him how much she wanted to be in her grandson’s life. What changed? She says, nothing changed. She’s always wanted Wiley to know her as his grandmother, as his family. When her ex was there, he told her Wiley’s father was considering letting her see Wiley, but so much time passed, she figured he decided against it. He says, so she hesitated, and she nods. He says, the guy probably came to his senses. He shouldn’t keep her from her grandson. Now there’s nothing to stop her from going home.

Nikolas reads, There once lived a prince oh so clever/ to Nick my true love he’d endeavor / warned him take heed from nurse ingles / lest you break out in shingles / then from your body/ your noggin I’ll sever. Ava says, now he’s not satisfied with just having her back. He has to kill Nikolas in the process. Nikolas tells Ava, call the police.

Obrecht wonders how that miscreant is still roaming free, and Anna says there’s an intra agent task force looking for Peter. Britt asks if there are any leads. Anna says no, and she’d better get back to it. She says she’ll touch base with Maxie. Britt says she’ll be right back, and follows Anna. She asks how she can help with Peter, and Anna asks what she thinks she can do. She says she spent over a year on the road with her father. She had access to Faison’s network, his contacts, and his money. Anna says she’ll inform the right people that Britt wants to help, but right now she thinks Britt should put all her attention on Maxie. She’s blaming herself for the kidnapping. Britt asks what makes Anna think that, and Anna says, because she’s a mother. It’s her job to protect her children. And when she can’t, she feels as if she failed.

Obrecht sits on Maxie’s bed, and says she should have done more than just warned her against Peter. She should have killed him, and none of this would have happened. Maxie says Peter isn’t worth spending her life in prison, but Obrecht says she could have avoided prison with careful planning. But she let Peter lure her into complacency. She was placated by his willingness to employ her. Because of her weakness, Peter is still free, claiming more victims, going unpunished. Maxie says, whatever she’s planning, do not do it. Anna and Mac will handle this. She doesn’t want Obrecht getting in any kind of trouble. Obrecht takes Maxie’s hand, and says, alas, leibchen, trouble is already here.

Anna leaves a message for Robert, saying that Maxie wants her to concentrate on finding Peter, so she’s not going to be joining him and Mac up in Port Chuck. For God’s sake, find that baby. Call her back. She goes the elevator, and pushes the button several times, then bangs it. Obrecht comes along, and says, one of those days? If Anna feels like breaking something, she can help.

Jackie arrives at Finn’s office, and asks, what’s going on? Finn says he needs a swab, and she says, what? He looks at Elizabeth, and remembers coming up with the formula. He tells Jackie that he and Elizabeth found a cure for Chase. The toxin that poisoned him was a variation on a toxin once used to poison Tiffany Hill. Anna found notes in Sean Donely’s files that helped him develop an antidote. This version of the toxin is particularly hideous. It caused Chase’s immune system to turn on itself. He needed to conceal the antidote in something Chase’s white blood cells wouldn’t attack. I have to add, he sounds like a voiceover for a third grade documentary on science. If he could sneak the antidote past Chase’s immune system, it will break down the toxin. He hands her his tablet like she’s a fellow scientist and will understand all this. She asks why taking swabs of their DNA helps, and Elizabeth says, instead of thinking it’s a foreign body, Chase’s immune system will recognize something in the DNA from which he was created. Finn says, his mother and father. I’m no scientist, but why couldn’t they use Chase’s DNA?

Willow asks what Chase is going to do first when he gets out of there, and he says he’s going to call the wine guy. She says, for a celebratory bottle, and he says, that, and ask him if he can recommend an exceptional bottle to give to Michael as thanks for letting him stay at the Quartermaines. She says she knows what Michael will say; totally unnecessary. He wasn’t even there overnight. He says he was there long enough to collapse again, and then she and Michael had to take him to the hospital. Talk about going above and beyond the call. She says, Finn is currently in his lab, saving Chase’s life. She and Michael aren’t the heroes of this story. He says, there can be more than one hero. As soon as he’s released, he plans on showing her how much of a hero he thinks she is. She says, about that… He says he’s an idiot. She was going to say something. Go ahead. What’s on her mind?

Michael tells Jax, Chase is seriously ill. That is the only reason he and Willow haven’t told him that they’re together yet. They don’t want to hurt their friend, who’s flat on his back in the hospital, but Jax threatened to do just that. Jax threatened to go to Chase, and break his heart, if he didn’t get what he wanted. Jax says all he wanted was for Nina to see her grandson, and Michael asks if he would have gone to Chase. He answers his own question, and says, probably. He’s already proved that he doesn’t give a damn about Chase, or Willow, much less him. Which he admits came as quite a shock. He always thought that they were family. Jax says, they are family, but Michael says, not anymore. Jax is Josslyn’s father, and for her sake, Michael won’t tell her what Jax did. Jax thinks Michael should rethink his anger. With one phone call, he just expanded Wiley’s family. Michael says, Jax can dress it up all he wants, but he just destroyed their relationship. Jax says, is that what he’s done?

Dante says they’ll get prints from the photo, the dagger, and the trophy case, and Ava asks if he’s sure he has the time. They still haven’t heard back from the PCPD about the plastic hand, any possible evidence that came from there, or the note that came with it. Nikolas says his wife has a point. This man broke into his house, and knew the code to the trophy case. Dante says, they’re a little busy right now. There’s a mob war, Peter August escaped, and oh yeah, there was the hostage situation with Cyrus Renault down at the pier, which Nikolas’s interference didn’t help with. Ava says he really doesn’t care that she’s being stalked by a madman. She’s curious. Would he be as dismissive if Ryan had focused on someone he cares about?

Sonny tells Nina to pack her bags; she can get to Port Charles by tonight. Don’t forget to bring presents for her grandson. She says, Wiley is buried under toys. He comes from one of the richest families in Port Charles. He says she doesn’t want to show up empty handed, so start shopping, and she asks if he’s trying to get rid of her. He says he’s just trying to make sure she gets what she wants, and Nina asks what he wants. He says, it’s pretty obvious. It looks like – he moves closer, and puts his hands on the bar on either side of her – timing is everything. She finally gets to be part of her grandson’s life at the same time he’s telling her that he wants more of a relationship with her. She says she wants more of them too, so what are they supposed to do? He says, the only answer to that is, let’s say goodbye.

Dante says he’ll make sure forensics puts a rush on it. He’ll let them know when he gets the results. As far as Ryan Chamberlain is concerned, they check in on him every week. He’s basically in a vegetative state. He can’t scratch his nose, much less walk, talk, or write. Ava says she’s sure Ryan is exaggerating this – air quotes – locked in syndrome – end air quote. And even if he’s not, he’s found an accomplice. It wouldn’t be the first time. Nikolas asks if they’ll be looking at someone other than Ryan, and Dante says, of course (🍷). He’s gotten a lot of press on the anniversary of his crime spree. Maybe somebody is studying Ryan’s crimes and decided to imitate them. Nikolas says, a copycat, who takes on Ryan’s obsession with Ava. Ava says, great, and Dante says, maybe it’s not Ava who has the secret admirer. Maybe it’s Nikolas.

Jax says he never wanted to jeopardize his and Michael’s relationship, but he did believe it was wrong to keep Nina away from Wiley. Michael says, this isn’t about Nina. This isn’t about Wiley. This is about Jax. Nina was completely irrational when the truth about Nelle came out. She blamed his mother for what happened, and she blamed Jax. (Inserting here that it doesn’t sound irrational, but okay, rewrite history.) All this is just a way of Jax to get back into Nina’s good graces, using his son, and destroying years of shared history in the process. Or didn’t he think there was going to be a price to pay? Did he think Michael would just smile and say, blackmail me all you want, because you’re such a great guy. Jax says, right, and Michael opens the door, and says, get out. Jax says, as far as he’s concerned, they’re still family. If Michael ever needs him – day or night – he’ll be there for him. Michael asks, who’s going to be there for Jax? and closes the door in his face. On the porch, Jax looks pained.

Nina asks Sonny if this has to be goodbye, and he says, seems that way. Unless… She says, unless? and he says she wants him to help her push Wiley on the swings in Port Charles in some playground. He’s sure Wiley has a grandfather. He doesn’t think Wiley’s dad would want her introducing his son to a stranger, and she says, it’s just going to be a visit. She’s not moving there permanently. He says she doesn’t have to tell him that to make him feel better. He knows what’s going to happen. She’s going to get there, and see her grandson, and her plans are going to change. She says she’s coming back, and she’ll bring him a gift. He says she’s the only gift that he needs.

Britt says, Dr. Navarro is off today, but from her notes, it looks like Maxie had a quick labor. Is she in any pain? Maxie says, just the usual, and Britt says she’ll give Maxie something to take home, in case the pain becomes too much to handle. Maxie says she’s sure it will be fine. She’d like to go home today. Britt says, Anna told her, but before she releases Maxie, she has to ask… Did she breastfeed Georgie or James? Maxie says, James, yes, but Georgie wasn’t with her. Britt says she’ll set Maxie up with a lactation consultant. She may choose to donate her milk. Maxie asks if there’s anything else, and Britt asks, what’s going on?

A guy in a hardhat and mask tells Obrecht and Anna, also in hardhats and masks, they’ve got twenty minutes to commit wanton carnage. Weapon of choice? Anna says, what? and Obrecht says, which weapon would she like? The baseball bat is popular, but Obrecht prefers the crowbar. She can wield it with incredible strength and power. The guy gives Obrecht a crowbar, and Anna a baseball bat. He leads them to a room filled with electronics, and says, happy smashing. He leaves, closing the door, and Anna says, now what? Obrecht says, now… we rage. Rock music plays as Obrecht whacks at an old typewriter.

Britt asks if Maxie went ahead with her plan, and Maxie says she couldn’t. Everything fell apart when Peter hired that psycho nurse to drug and kidnap her. Britt says she’s so sorry. She should have been there. Maxie and Louise needed her. Now Louise is gone. Maxie says, Louise is okay. Louise is going to be just fine. Britt asks how Maxie knows.

Anna asks if Obrecht comes there often, and Obrecht says, it’s good for exercising demons. Anna says, anyone in particular? and Obrecht whacks at some more stuff, and says, no way to help someone in need. She smashes something else, and Anna says she does know that feeling. She doesn’t think smashing inanimate objects is really her thing. She has more pressing problems. Obrecht says, like finding Peter, and bringing him to justice, so that Maxie can be forever grateful? Check your hero complex at the door. Cesar taught them that well. She will never find Peter. Anna says she knows what Obrecht is doing, and Obrecht says, Anna can present herself as Maxie’s avenging angel, but she sees the real Anna Devane. The weakness and uncertainty, and soon, the rest of the world will see it to. A disgrace to her profession. A failure to her family. Anna says, she could say the same thing about Obrecht, but Obrecht says, she stood her ground, saw her enemy, and called his name. She didn’t hide behind wishful thinking. And now, Peter is gone. He’s beaten Anna. And Anna has failed everyone she loves because of her lies. Anna flips her mask down, and takes swings at some electronics. There’s a music part, and Obrecht and Anna go into a smashing frenzy, pausing at one point to fist-bump. There’s a barrel that says Choose Your Weapons, and they try out other things, including a golfclub. This is one of the most fun scenes to date on this show. Right up there with the Nurses Ball. When it’s over, they sit on a bench in the midst of the debris, and Anna says she might have to get a membership to this place.

Nikolas asks what makes Dante think this is about him, and Dante says, because it wouldn’t be the obvious angle. Ava says, the cockroach and the hand were addressed to her, and Nikolas asks what Ryan has to gain by sending those sick gifts? He’s a smart guy. He should know it’s not going to win her back. Dante says, the photo with the dagger through it, the limerick, means Nikolas is being threatened, and Ava says, because Ryan wants her all to himself. Dante says maybe someone wants Nikolas all to themselves, and Ava asks if he’s saying someone is copycatting Ryan, not to get to her, but to get to Nikolas? He tells her, don’t sound so disappointed.

Willow asks Chase if it’s safe to come back, and he says the nurse had to update his chart and check his vitals. Finn should have told them he’s checking out of the hospital tonight, but she says she’s sure Finn is going to want to keep him at least overnight to make sure he’s fully recovered from the toxin’s effects. He says he can fully recover at home; he’ll talk to Finn. Willow tells him, what he said before, about the sacrifices she’s made, he’s wrong. Supporting him isn’t a sacrifice; it’s something she wants to do. And whatever happens next… Finn, Elizabeth, and Jackie come in with a cart, and Finn asks if Chase is ready to be cured. Chase says he doesn’t know. He’s come to like it there. Finn says a sense of humor runs in the family. Jackie asks what’s going on with the décor, and Chase says, it’s Nantucket until they can get to the real one. Willow asks if Gregory is coming, and Jackie says, he’s on his way. Finn sets up the IV bag, and asks if Chase is ready. Three… two… one… Chase smiles, and everyone waits.

Sonny sets up the Tan-O for the evening, when Nina comes in. She asks where Lenny and Phyllis are, and he says they went for a walk, but he can’t reach them. She says she can’t leave without saying goodbye, but he says, it’s getting late. She has a long drive, and she’s going to be back anyway, right? She says, right. She can try them when she’s on the road. She starts to go, and he says, she didn’t think he was going to let her leave without him.

Ava asks if Dante is saying she enjoys the attention, and he apologizes, saying, it was unprofessional of him. She says, yes it was, and he says whoever the stalker is after is secondary. Nikolas says, because whoever they are, they broke into their home. They slipped past security and knew the code to the trophy case. Dante says, it could be someone who works for the company, or someone who works in the house, someone from security detail, or someone from their past. The point is, they know how to get into Windymere, and get to them. Nikolas says he’ll hire a private investigator to do background checks, and Dante says it’s a good idea, but not from there. They have to get off the island. Ava asks, why? and he says because they got a death threat. If they stay on the island, they could end up getting killed.

Obrecht asks Anna if she enjoyed herself, and Anna says she never would have thought of it. Obrecht says Cesar bragged about Anna’s control, and Anna says, that must have made her happy. Obrecht says he’d drive her into jealous rages when he spoke about her. Anna has incredible self-possession. No one has more resolve than my Anna. Anna says she’s surprised Obrecht didn’t take a sledgehammer to him, and Obrecht says she wishes she had. Now here it comes. Anna says, what? and Obrecht says she’s about to ask herself, what happened to the real Anna Devane, who allowed her adversaries to think her beaten, when she was only lying in wait for the perfect opportunity to strike the killing blow? Anna says, Peter happened, and Obrecht says, in some ways, Peter was worse than his father, more manipulative, and adept at hiding his evil. Anna says she really tried to love Peter. She thought she could change him, and she lost herself trying to save him. Obrecht says she disagrees. She caught a glimpse of Anna Devane just now, swinging that bat. They both laugh, and Obrecht gets up, holding out her hand. She suggests Anna prioritize her search. She won’t find Peter and the baby, until Anna finds herself. Anna takes Obrecht’s hand and gets up. She says, thank you for this. Now she has some real work to do. She picks up an old telephone on her way out, and says, souvenir. Obrecht smiles as she watches Anna leave.

Britt asks how Maxie knows Louise is fine, and Maxie says she might fall apart if she believed anything else. Right now, she can’t afford to do that. Britt says if she were in Maxie’s shoes, she doesn’t know how she’d deal with this, and Maxie says, when it comes to her family, she has to be able to handle anything that’s thrown at them.

On the phone, Nina asks if Jax is surprised to hear from her, and he says he didn’t know if she was still speaking to him. Is she okay? She says she’s fine. Actually, she’s hopeful. Michael called, and invited her to visit with Wiley. He says, that’s great. Hopefully it’s the start of many visits with Wiley. She asks if he had anything to do with it, and he says he hopes he gets to see her when she comes to town. Which answers her question not at all, which kind of answers it. She says she’s not sure. Bye. Sonny comes out with a tote bag, and says sorry to keep Nina waiting. She says she was thinking. Lenny and Phyllis will never forgive her if she takes him away from them. He says he realized he’d be butting into her family reunion, but that doesn’t mean she can’t take a piece of him with her. He hands her a jar of sauce, and says it’s something to remember him by. She says she hardly thinks she’ll forget him. Besides, she still owes him a dance. He says he’s counting on that, and hands her the bag. She says she’ll see him soon, and he says he’s looking forward to that. She’s almost out the door when she comes back and kisses him. He tells her to remember, it’s a slow simmer, referring to the sauce, but not really, and she leaves. Sonny smiles.

Michael comes into the hospital, and Willow says, perfect timing. Chase is going to be okay. Finn found a cure. She tells him, come on. Chase will want to see him. They go to Chase’s room, and Michael asks if it’s true Finn found a cure. Chase says, is Finn a doctor genius or what? He asks if Michael is ready for softball season, and Michael asks if he means when Aurora shuts down the PCPD in the open, but Chase says he’s very wrong. Once he gets on the mound, and unleashes his secret slider, he’ll be embarrassed to call himself a player. Finn says, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Chase is going to be resting for a while. Chase says, God doesn’t want him to leave. He can already feel the antidote working. His nose starts bleeding, and Elizabeth runs for a tissue. Chase asks if this is a side-effect Finn didn’t warn him about, and has a seizure. You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you?

Tomorrow, Cyrus is glad someone doesn’t hold a grudge, Finn says he’s going to turn himself in to the police, Lenny tells Mike/Sonny to get on the next flight and surprise Nina, and Carly says it’s funny how things work out.

🤷🏽 Excuses and Apologies…

It’s been more than one of those days. I have a dog who’s not doing well, and a computer that decided to update when I was in the middle of watching GH online. I did see The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but still need to edit, and really don’t want to be going to sleep as the sun comes up. So RHOBH tomorrow, and for now, stay safe, stay not coloring between the lines, and stay not playing the blackmail card too quickly. There might be a price to pay.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the WSB Facility in Geneva, Dante does pushups. He flashes back to Dr. Kirk telling him that he wasn’t fully briefed on the operative, but it involves someone Dante knows, maybe family. Dante tells him, go to hell. He remembers asking Dr. Kirk, now that he’s willing to do the work, how long will it take? He doesn’t know how much of his family is still waiting for him. He throws a chair across the room. FYI, it’s a nicer room than the one he had.

Robert comes into the facility with Olivia, and the agent at the desk asks him to sign in. Olivia asks if the agent knows who he’s talking to. This is Robert Scorpio, the greatest agent in the history of the WSB. Robert says he’s sure the agent is too young to remember stuff like that, and the guy says he’ll notify Agent Wagner of their arrival. Olivia is nervous, as she pins on her ID tag. She thanks Robert for getting her in, and he says he hopes it works. She says, it’s got to. They need to remember what they said on the plane; think positive.

Lulu delivers some chicken parmigiana to Doc at the hospital. She says, she’s no chef, but it’s the recipe Olivia gave her when… Anyway, Dustin was supposed to come over, but got held up, and her mom was worried about how much Doc is working. He wonders if she’s campaigning for the world’s greatest stepdaughter, and she says she does have an ulterior motive. She’s wondering how long her mother is going to be staying in DC. Cyrus – who must sleep at the hospital now – comes by, and says he was wondering that himself.

Brando thanks Jason for finally believing he didn’t sabotage the motorcycle, even though it took a beating to convince him. Sam says, unless it was staged, and Brando asks if that’s what she thinks happened. She says, no. She thinks it happened like he said. Cyrus asked to help him, he refused, and Cyrus retaliated. Brando asks if he was that convincing, or is there something else behind her change of heart? Jason admits they were watching the garage, and Brando wonders if they were watching him. Jason says Brando told them Cyrus had come by, and it’s why they got there so fast. Brando supposes he should be grateful their surveillance worked.

At the MetroCourt, Valentin asks why Julian needs Martin so fast, and Julian says he wants to end his marriage to Nelle. Valentin is sure Julian isn’t the only one who wants to see the last of Nelle. Peter watches them from the doorway.

Alexis says, Neil died of a drug overdose? and Jordan says they’re not positive. She’s sure it’s a shock. The autopsy report… Alexis says, is wrong. Unless it was a fatal interaction between two medications Neil was taking. Jordan says, the drug in question is an opioid. Alexis asks if Jordan is telling her that Neil OD’d on opioids.

Valentin says, Nelle kidnapped Michael’s son, and Julian says, everyone is looking for her; he wants to separate himself as soon as possible. Valentin says, as her husband, he can’t be compelled to testify against Nelle, unless he’s charged as an accessory. Julian says he has no idea where Nelle is, and Valentin assumes the police and Sonny believe him, since he’s not in jail or worse. Julian says the sooner he gets ahold of Martin, the happier he’ll be. Valentin asks if he’s worried that Nelle is coming back, or that she’s not coming back.

Alexis tells Jordan, the medical examiner is wrong. She knows Neil wasn’t a drug addict. Jordan says it was just the preliminary report, and she’s sure they’ll know more when they get the final report. Dr. Meyer might change her conclusion, but if not, and they put it in context, they might figure out why it happened. Hadn’t Neil recently lost his medical license and position at the hospital? Alexis wonders if Jordan is asking if Neil was depressed. Of course (🍷) he was; who wouldn’t be? But he was able to process it. They’d been joking, and talking about the future. Jordan says she’s sorry she has to ask, but was it possible Neil was covering up his true feelings? Maybe the challenge of starting over was too much, and he took his own life.

Olivia repeats, positive, positive, to herself, and says, it’s not going to be easy. Robert says, it’s been months since Dante sent back a letter. He’s had time to reconsider. He’s there for a reason; to get better. She tells him, try explaining that to Ned. He just thinks she’s setting herself up for disappointment. He tells her not to buy into Ned’s concern, and she says he’s afraid she’ll get hurt again by being too vulnerable. He says, of course (🍷) she is. She’s a parent. When Robin was young, a tear or a smile would turn him into a mushy puss. He’s been that way since she was little. Olivia says he wouldn’t have it any other way, and Robert says, better to be vulnerable and feel something. It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. She says Tennyson, and Robert says he learned it in school. It’s the only part he remembers. She says if she could pick one line, that would be the one to remember. He says, whatever Dante’s reaction, she’s not there to save the world. She says, just a tiny slice in Port Charles. The agent brings a man in, and says he’s Robert’s former colleague, Bryan Wagner. Robert says, and a great agent. Robert thanks him, and tells Olivia that Bryan is the interim head in Geneva, and the one who’s getting her in to see Dante. In the meantime, he has paperwork to do. He leaves, and Olivia says she can’t thank Bryan enough. He tells her, thank Robert. He must love her very much.

Cyrus tells Doc and Lulu that he has big plans for the hospital, and it would help to have the mayor’s input. When is she expected back? Doc says, she’s extended her trip, and he’s not sure when she’ll be back. Cyrus asks Doc to give her his regards when he speaks to her, and tells Lulu, always a pleasure. Is she there for a story? She says she’s there to drop off dinner to her stepfather, and Cyrus bets Doc wants him to improve the food in the cafeteria, but Doc says Cyrus would only try to poison him. Cyrus says, then Doc would have a reason to commit him, which he tried the last time they met. Doc says, if Cyrus fired him, he wouldn’t be the first. Lulu asks what Doc means, and Doc says, sorry. Cyrus made a staffing change and fired Monica and Bobbie. Lulu says, he did what? and Cyrus smiles.

Jason tells Brando, Sonny will worry about what happens next. While they can assume it was Cyrus who had Brando beat up, they have no proof, and there’s no proof Cyrus tampered with his motorcycle. Sonny will handle it when he’s ready. Until then, Brando will be protected. Brando says, good to know. Jason gets a text from Spinelli that says: Must talk, Your abode. Sam tells Brando to do what the doctor said, and don’t get up. Brando thanks them for scraping him up off the floor, and Jason says he owes Brando for saving Carly. Outside Brando’s room, Sam wonders if they should tell Sonny, but Jason says Sonny is with Mike. That’s more important, and Jason can fill him in later; it’s not urgent. If Cyrus wanted to break the truce, Brando would be dead. Sam says, Jason almost was, but he says, it was low risk operation, and Cyrus has deniability. Look how easily he took over GH. If they overreact, they’re playing his game. Sam says she’ll join him later. She has things to take care of first. They go their separate ways.

Julian says the cops think he might be helping Nelle, and Valentin says, is he? Julian says, no, and Valentin says he doesn’t see how seeing Martin quickly will help. He thinks Julian should stay married for now. Julian leaves, and Peter asks Valentin what Julian wanted. Valentin says, he was worried about Nelle. There seems to be a lot of that going around.

Alexis tells Jordan, Neil enjoyed his life. He enjoyed the opera, good food, good books, and even drag queen bingo karaoke. Last night they were talking about how much they were looking forward to the future. Does that sound depressed? Jordan says she’s just trying to understand, and Alexis says, so is she. Jordan asks if there’s a family history. Alexis says, Neil’s daughter took her own life, but before Jordan says ah-ha, while Neil was devastated, he used his experience to help other parents. Jordan thinks you never get over losing a child. Maybe Alexis was unaware of how much pain he was in. Was that possible? Alexis says, there was no sign that Neil would do anything drastic. There must be some other explanation. Jordan asks if it’s possible Alexis didn’t know Neil as well as she thought. When it’s something as insidious as drug use, those closest to the person sometimes don’t know anything.

Robert comes back, and says, the Bureau will never change. They could arrest three times as many people if not for the paperwork. Olivia says she’s deeply grateful, but also embarrassed. Robert’s friend seems to think Robert is in love with her. He laughs, and asks if Bryan said that. She asks if it’s so crazy, and he says any guy would find her irresistible. She says, nice save, Scorpio. Or should she say, James Bond? Dr. Kirk comes back in with Bryan, who says they have a problem, and introduces Dr. Kirk as Dante’s psychologist. Dr. Kirk says it’s not possible for them to see his patient.

Lulu tells Cyrus, Monica Quartermaine and Bobbie Spencer are vital to the hospital. He says, their actions left the hospital open to a malpractice suit, and it was the appropriate response to terminate their employment. His job isn’t to risk the head psychologist, one of his most valued assets, and the husband of their city’s most illustrious mayor. Doc asks if Cyrus is keeping him on as a favor to his wife, and Cyrus says he’d do anything to keep her happy. Doc’s phone rings, and he steps away. Lulu tells Cyrus that he’s too focused on her mother, and he says he has high hopes for a better relationship with her mother, and the rest of the family. I get a minute movie in my head of Laura saying she’s tired of her boring life, and wants to get back to her adventurous roots, then running off with Cyrus.

Jason goes to the apartment, and asks Spinelli, what’s going on? Spinelli says he has the vital evidence they need. Jason asks if he’s talking about the attack on Brando, but Spinelli says, it’s information incriminating Peter. Jason said they’d have to find proof even Maxie and Anna couldn’t deny, and they have it. From Peter, in his own words.

Brando tries to get up, but Sam comes back in, and tells him to lie down. He’s supposed to stay in bed. What was he thinking?

Julian sees Alexis at the hospital, and says she looks like she lost her best friend. Are the girls okay? She says, they’re fine, and he asks, who then?

Valentin asks Peter what the urgent phone call was about. Does he need help blowing up the world? Peter says, before Nelle took off, she disclosed private information, which, if it got to the wrong person, he could be a dead man. Valentin says, the wrong person being Jason.

Spinelli tells Jason, he encountered Nelle in the hours before she abducted Wiley. In retrospect, it was probably to divert his attention at the time, but he’s grateful for the information. Jason says, what information? and Spinelli says Shiloh confided to Nelle that Peter was involved in Drew’s abduction in Afghanistan, and leveraged the information. Jason says, that’s why Peter was on the pier with a bag of cash. Anything else? Spinelli says if Peter was willing to break Shiloh out, he could have sabotaged Drew’s plane, and engineered Franco and Andre’s attack. Jason asks, what about evidence? Spinelli says Maxie believes Peter is sincerely reformed, but what Nelle told him confirms they’re on the right path to proving he’s a liar. Jason asks if he has proof in Peter’s own words, and Spinelli says, exactamundo. Before he could complete the task of removing the camera in the garage, Maxie and Peter came in. Maxie had to leave, and he confronted Peter. Peter refuted his accusations, and he pretended to be cowed and slunk away, leaving Peter with the camera on. Peter obligingly incriminated himself, and Spinelli has the footage. They look at Peter on the phone.

Sam says, next time, she’ll let Brando fall on his face. He asks if she came back to lecture him, and she says she came to apologize. She’s sorry for accusing him of sabotaging Jason’s bike. He says he understands her suspicions, but wishes she’d taken the time to get to know him better. She says, it’s easy; he’s so transparent. He says if he’d lived his life like her, he’d be warm and cuddly too, and she asks, what makes him think he knows what kind of life she’s lived? He says, tell him.

Robert tells Dr. Kirk that he arranged for clearance, but the doctor says, right now, it’s not safe for Dante to have visitors. Olivia says she’s not a visitor; she’s his mother. Dr. Kirk says Dante feels he can’t control his actions, and would be a danger to family and friends; they could be a huge trigger. Olivia says she understands Dante wanting to protect her, but he’s wrong. He could never hurt her, but she can’t prove it unless she sees him face to face. Robert says, she has a point, and Dr. Kirk says, since she has clearance, he’ll allow access, but it’s up to Dante if he wants to see her. Olivia says she understands, and the doctor says, this way, and leads them to Dante’s room.

Lulu says Cyrus doesn’t know a damn thing about her family, but he says, on the contrary. He’s done his research, and Lulu and her mother have a lot of similarities. They were both impulsive in their youth, and couldn’t be contained. They were attracted to men with a thirst for danger, and tagged along on one adventure to the next, until the adventures stopped. Then they settled down. Lulu says she grew up. What’s his point? He says he’s fascinated with people who transform their lives and run away from their past. Tell him. Does she ever miss her old life?

Olivia tells the doctor, it’s not the first time Dante has tried to protect her. She tells him about Dante being undercover, and Dante hears them outside the door. Dr. Kirk tells her to wait. He’ll see if Dante will accept a visit.

Dr. Kirk goes into Dante’s room, and says his mother is out there. Dante says he heard her voice, and the doctor says she wants to see him. Dante wonders how she got access, and Dr. Kirk says, she knows living legend Robert Scorpio. Dante says, that’s his mother, and the doctor asks if he wants to see her. Does he feel like he’s sufficiently in control? Dante hears, complete the mission… complete the mission, in his head.

Lulu tells Cyrus that he got his details scrambled regarding her and her mother’s adventures. They didn’t tag along; certainly not her mother. Her mother was the dangerous one, which he’d do well to remember. Doc comes back, and says one of his colleagues has passed away. Cyrus asks if it was someone on the hospital staff, and Doc says, not since Cyrus took over. Cyrus gives Doc his condolences, and says he’ll give them privacy. He tells Lulu, if she’s ever so inclined, he wouldn’t say no to a home cooked meal. Cyrus reminds me of Richard III, and how he tries to romance Lady Anne right after he’s murdered her husband and father-in-law.

Sam tells Brando, before she was a P.I. and before she met Jason and became a mom, she chose a different lifestyle. He asks if she was a circus juggler or a game show host, and she says she was a con artist. He laughs, and says that’s better than what he could come up with. She says she’s serious, and he asks how she got into that. She says she had her reasons, and convinced herself they were good ones. They’re decent people, but their past is still a part of them. She says she’s bad at this, but she’s saying she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to judge him about trying to sabotage Jason’s bike, or what went down with Molly. He accepts her apology, and she thanks him, but she needs him to stay in bed. He has to get better fast. He’s Sonny’s investment, and they don’t want to disappoint him. He thanks her again.

Julian wonders if Neil turned to drugs because of his interference, and Alexis says it figures Julian would make it about him. He suggests she didn’t know Neil as well as she thought, but she says, Neil wasn’t battling any demons. Jordan comes out with the medical examiner, and says she’ll let Julian know when there’s any news about Nelle. Alexis says she’d like to know if Dr. Meyer still believes Neil died of an OD, and the doctor says she found the puncture wound where Neil was injected.

Olivia wonders what’s taking so long. What’s the doctor saying? Dr. Kirk comes out, and says he’s sorry, but Dante refuses to let her visit. He doesn’t think it’s safe. Olivia says, he’s wrong, but he says, Dante is the best judge of his own feelings. He’s made the decision; sorry. He’ll show them out. She says, the hell he will. She storms to the door, and tries to open it, but it’s locked. She says, this is his mother. Open this door. Dante Angelo Falconari, open the door. She knows he’s trying to protect her; that’s the kind of person he is. Concerned about other people, and always trying to do the right thing. Dante goes to the door, and she says she wishes she could say she taught him that, but it came from inside of him. It was there on the day he was born. She was just blown away at this perfect person she brought into this world, and he is. She cries, and says he’s perfect, and she loves him the way he is. Dante sits against the door on the other side, and she says, love is stronger than fear, and stronger than PTSD; stronger than this door. She bangs on it, and says, sweetheart, just listen. He’s got to trust her. Just open the door. Let her see his face. Let her tell him how much she loves him. She cries, and slides down the door, and Dante looks like he has a headache, sitting with his head in his hands.

Alexis asks Dr. Meyer if the injection was voluntary. Was it self-administered, or could it have been an attack? The medical examiner says, there were no defensive injuries, but Alexis doesn’t believe it. She says no way the man she knew took his own life. Not in her house, and in her bed. They’ve made a mistake, and she’s going to prove it. Julian says he’ll take her home, and follows her out.

Doc tells Lulu that Neil was a respected colleague. Neil turned over his patient files to him just last night. That’s another reason he wants to stay at GH, although a side of him wishes Cyrus would fire him like Monica and Bobbie. Sam comes by, and asks what they’re talking about. Lulu says they were talking about how Cyrus’s first order of business was to fire the Chief of Staff and the Head Nursing Administrator. Sam says, that’s… Lulu says, awful? Despicable? All of the above? Sam says she’s sorry, and jets.

After presumably looking at the video, Jason tells Spinelli, he doesn’t think it’s enough, but it’s a start. They need to track down the person on the other end of the call; either a confident or an accomplice. He knows Spinelli is worried about Maxie, but they can’t rush it. Their goal is to get hard evidence. He tells Spinelli, once they have it, they can move, and Spinelli leaves.

Valentin tells Peter, Jason is a dangerous man, and Peter says he knows that. Valentin says Jason shot Peter’s father, and holds a grudge. Peter held him hostage for five years. Peter says he saved Jason’s life, and Valentin says, and Anna saved Peter’s life. He’d be dead if she hadn’t intervened. Peter says, the point is, Nelle made incriminating allegations to Spinelli. He asks if Valentin will help him, and Valentin says, of course (🍷). It’s the least he can do after delivering Peter to his father to raise, and it’s the better option, being essential to Maxie and Anna’s happiness. But how do they do it? Bridge the gap from a past as dark as Peter’s, with the man who sits before him.

Olivia sits on the floor, and cries. Robert says, let’s go, and helps her up. She tells Dante, sweetheart, I love you, and know you’re going to get better. I know you’re coming home, and we’ll all be waiting. Take it easy. They leave, and Dante is super bummed.

Olivia tells Robert, her son doesn’t want her because he thinks he’s a danger, but he knows that when he’s ready to come home, there will be someone waiting who trusts him. One of these days he’ll be ready. It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. Robert says he’ll book a flight back, but she says, no. They have Holly’s memorial; that’s more important. They made a pact. He supported her with Dante, and she’s going to support him with Holly. End of story. They made a bargain, and now it’s her turn. She couldn’t help her son, but she can help him with Holly. They’ll put one foot in front of the other, and the next step is going to Holly’s memorial together.

Dr. Kirk goes into Dante’s room, and Dante asks if his mother is gone. The doctor says, it couldn’t have been easy, but Dante says, it’s not safe for him to see her. He has to do the work first before he faces his family. The doctor says he admires that Dante wants to do the work, instead of taking the operative that would have been his shortcut home.

Doc tells Lulu, the more he experiences Cyrus, the more he needs a shower. She says she’s glad her mom’s not there to see Cyrus do his victory lap, and Doc says Cyrus has an odd affinity for his wife. Lulu says, and their family.

Valentin says Peter has to prove to Maxie and Anna that he’s worth loving. Be the man they think he is, and keep them close. Peter says, and Jason? Valentin says he won’t know about their conversation. They’ll go their separate ways, and he’ll do what he can to keep Jason from destroying Peter.

Sam gets back home, and asks Jason where Spinelli is. Jason says he sent Spinelli home, and she asks if he had anything they can use against Cyrus. He says, not yet, but they’re closer to a link between Peter and Shiloh. She asks what that means, and he says, nothing much yet. What about her unfinished business? She says she thought she owed Brando an apology for accusing him of sabotaging Jason’s bike. While she was at the hospital, she ran into Lulu and Doc. They told her that Cyrus fired Bobbie and his mother. This wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t been able to take over GH. Go ahead and say it. He thinks it’s her fault.

A nurse brings flowers into Brando’s room, and he says, that’s a first. No one ever sent him flowers before. The nurse gives him the card, and says, enjoy. He reads, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Let me know if I can be of assistance. Cyrus.

Julian helps Alexis look through the bedroom. She says, no evidence of self-injection. He looks under the bed, and finds a syringe. He tells Alexis, sorry.

Cyrus is reading at home, when there’s a knock at the door. It’s Jordan, who asks why he murdered Neil.

Next time, Alexis says she fell for a better liar than Julian, Sam says Bobbie and Monica are paying the price for her actions, Jordan asks Cyrus if her services are no longer needed, and Brick wonders if Carly is asking him to stop. She says, not a chance.

The Haves and The Have Nots

At the Cryer residence, a cop asks if Hanna recognizes Derrick. He said he works there. She says she doesn’t want to talk to him, and Derrick says, tell them… The cop says, sir… and Derrick insists he works there. He’s supposed to be there. Jim asked him to come and board up the door. He has the materials in the trunk. He asks Hanna to tell them, and she says she doesn’t know if he talked to Jim. He asks if she thinks he’s a liar, and she asks if he really wants her to talk about who he is. He asks the cop to please call Jim, but another cop says, there’s no need. They just confirmed it; uncuff him. He says Derrick can board up the door now, but Derrick says he doesn’t need to. He’ll just fix the locks and door jamb. The first cop asks if Hanna can show them what’s missing, which makes no sense, since she can’t show them anything if it’s missing. He says, the bedroom and master seem to be the only places, and they go upstairs.

They go into Kathryn’s closet, and Hanna says Kathryn had way more jewelry. Everything is gone. Kathryn’s car keys are gone, and she didn’t see one of the cars out front. The cop asks if she knows the make and model, but all she knows is that it’s a Mercedes. He asks if she can get the information and make a report, and she says, absolutely, jotting down some notes.

Candace calls Benny, and says Hanna is gone. She’s sitting outside, and wants to be gone before Hanna gets back. Benny says he’s supposed to meet Mitch, but he’ll come. She tells him, hurry up please.

Hanna gives the officer what she’s written down, and says, it’s all she knows. She asks if he’d mind walking her to her car. Outside, David sees Hanna, but she keeps walking. He asks if she doesn’t hear him, and she says she’s ignoring him. He says he’s just trying to find out what happened, and she says, it’s none of his business, but he says the Cryers are friends of his; it is his business. Jim asked him to come. She says she doesn’t answer to Jim or David, and he says if she thinks she’s working for Kathryn, and not working for Jim, she’s wrong. The two of them will always be together. Be careful about taking sides. She tells him, leave her alone, and he says just tell him what’s missing. She says, ask the police, but he says they won’t tell him. He tells her, she needs to call Jim; it’s his house. She says she doesn’t owe Jim a damn thing. She gets in her car and drives off, and David goes inside.

At the station, Officer Miller is taken out on a stretcher. Vinny tries to chat up the desk sergeant, and she asks him to show some respect. He doesn’t think she gets it, and asks if she’s suicidal. Another officer comes out and says she’s not. Vinny says cops around there are under pressure, but the officer says she’s fine, and takes her place at the desk. Vinny asks where his mother is, and the officer asks if he can take Vinny back, but Vinny says, no; bring her out. The officer says he has to call the chief, but Vinny says, just bring her out. Hurry up, and don’t make her nervous. He says, one more thing. If his mother has one hair out of place… The officer says, she’s fine. They got her a nice chair. Vinny says, a nice chair in prison. All right. Tell her Vinny is there. The officer goes in the back.

He unlocks Rose’s cell, saying, Miss Malone? and she says, call her Mama Rose. He says her sons are out there, and she says she thought so. He says he’s working as fast as he can to get her out. Is there anything else he can get her? She asks what happened to the officer who arrested her? Tell Mamma Rose. He says, the officer attempted to commit suicide, and she says, how sad. He says, it is, and she tells him, keep her posted. He says he will, adding that he has to call the chief and ell him. She says, he didn’t tell the chief she’s there? and he says, sorry. She asks, why not? and he says, the chief gets pissed if they call after hours. She says, if he knew it was about her, he wouldn’t get pissed. Call and tell him that she asked about Ashley, and how she’s doing in college. He says he will, and she says, do it now. As he starts to leave, she says, and son, relax… but not too much. He closes the cell door.

Kathryn asks if that’s what Mama Rose does; threaten and bully. Rose says, yes, but she’s so much better at it than Kathryn. Kathryn laughs, and says, is that right? Okay. Rose asks what Kathryn means, and Kathryn says, when she gets out, she’ll show her. Rose says Kathryn will never get out, but Kathryn says, darling, you have no idea how resourceful I am. Rose asks how Kathryn’s daughter is, and Kathryn says, say what? Rose says, her daughter. She’s the one who committed suicide, isn’t she? Why doesn’t Kathryn do the same? Kathryn says she’s waiting for Rose. Rose says, Kathryn’s bastard son caused her heartache when he killed that little girl. She was just wondering what it would be like for Kathryn to be in the same cell with one of the girl’s family members. Kathryn says, don’t threaten her, but Rose says she’s not threatening, just wondering… Kathryn says she’s just telling Rose not to threaten her. Rose says, yes, ma’am. Kathryn says she might be behind bars, but she has a far reach. Rose says, why not reach for the keys? Kathryn wanted to know how her son was. He’s dead. Kathryn says if she finds out anything happened to her son, that will be the end of her reign, and Rose says, at least Kathryn knows she reigns. Kathryn says, don’t forget who’s queen, and Rose asks if Kathryn is the one tilting the throne. Kathryn says, is that what Rose calls it? Okay. She lies down, and laughs.

At the Iron Bone, Mitch’s phone rings. Benny tells him, Candace is locked out. He’s going to open the door for her, then he’ll be there. Sandy comes in, and asks for a double whiskey, neat. Mitch asks what the hell is wrong with him? and Sandy says, Uncle Vinny shot him. Mitch asks, who? and Sandy says, the officer who arrested Mama Rose. He was going off, and Vinny took out a gun and shot him in the police station. Mitch asks if Vinny was arrested, but Sandy says, no; it was crazy. Mitch wonders how they could not arrest Vinny, and Sandy says, another cop was there. He was scared to death, and Vinny told him the cop shot himself. Mitch asks if Vinny killed him, but Sandy doesn’t know. Mitch says, son of a bitch Vinny. Sandy says he’s going to be sick, and Mitch asks, what for? Sandy says he’s never seen that, and Mitch says Sandy acts like a big man, always wanting to run the family. Sandy says, that was insane, and Mitch says, call it what he wants. Does he think Vinny is going to jail? Mitch says, he probably should, and Sandy says he didn’t pull the trigger, but he was there. He’ll get through this, right? Mitch says he doesn’t get involved in the family business, but Sandy is going to have to handle it. Stuff like that happens all the time. Sandy wants another drink, and takes the bottle from the bartender. He tells Mitch, the kid was young, like 22. Mitch says, it’s a shame, but that stuff happens; it’s part of the game. Sandy drinks another shot, and walks away.

Jeffrey sees Justin waiting outside Madison’s apartment, and Justin asks what the hell Jeffrey is doing there. Jeffrey says Madison called him; what the hell is Justin doing there? He tells Justin, he’s there to see his man, and Justin says, Jeffrey and Madison are seeing each other now? Jeffrey says, stop this, and Justin asks if Jeffrey is just going to leave him like this, but Jeffrey says he was never with Justin. Justin says he can be better, and Jeffrey tells him, leave now. Justin says his brother came to see him, and threatened him. Jeffrey shakes his head, and Justin says he doesn’t know if he’s going to make it, between his family and Jeffrey’s mother. He doesn’t have anything. Jeffrey knocks on Madison’s door, and Justin says he’s just going in there with Madison? Seriously, what is up with Justin that he can’t take a hint? Madison comes out, and Jeffrey puts his arm around him. Madison says, Justin is still there, and asks Jeffrey if he wants to come in. Jeffrey starts to follow Madison, when Justin grabs his arm, saying, please, don’t. Jeffrey shakes him off, and says, stop it. Madison waves, and says, byieeee!

Inside, Madison asks if Jeffrey feels sorry for Justin. Jeffrey says he does, and Madison says, that’s because Jeffrey is a good person. Justin is something bad waiting to happen. Jeffrey wonder how long Justin has been out there, and says he’s spending the night. Madison says, the morning, and Jeffrey realizes it’s 2 am. He says he’ll sleep on the couch in case Madison needs protection. Madison asks if Jeffrey can’t protect him from his bed. He has to be at work in a few hours though, so let him rest. Jeffrey says he’ll try, and asks if Madison is really leaving Justin out there. Madison says, you can’t help everybody. Jeffrey says he knows, and they go into the bedroom.

David calls Jim and asks what Jim would like him to do. Jim thanks him, saying he knows it’s late. David says they’ve been praying for this for a long time, and Jim says he doesn’t know why David puts up with her. David says he asks himself that at least once a month. Jim says, is that all? Sorry. He knows he’s an ass. David says he knows too, and Jim says, very funny. David tells Jim that Hanna was there, and Jim says, Kathryn has her on the alarm call list. He asks what Hanna said, but David says she wouldn’t tell him a thing. She can be a bit of a bitch. She’s a nice woman and all, until she’s pushed. Jim says he’ll need David’s help later to find his son before he does something stupid again. David says he’ll try now, but Jim says, get some rest. Wyatt stole his car, and he’ll have it tracked in a few hours. Wyatt won’t be able to pawn anything until 10. He thanks David again.

Benny pulls up to Hanna’s house, where Candace sits on the stoop. She says, finally, and Benny asks if Hanna is there. Candace says, she’s gone, and Benny lets her in. She thanks him, and he asks where she’s going this late. She tells him, a hotel, and he says he’s meeting Mitch to talk about Derrick. She asks, why not wait until morning? but Benny tells her, the internet said he killed a man. She says she told him that she doesn’t think it’s the same guy, but what if Mitch gets more information? Benny asks if Mitch can do that, and she says, the Malones can do anything. Candace says she’s going to get her stuff, and he asks what if Hanna comes back. Hanna appears, and says she’s already back. Why are they there? She told them to get out. Benny tries to show her the picture from the internet, but she won’t look. She says they just steal that man’s money after everything Kathryn has done. She’s been good to them. Benny says Kathryn’s son hit him, and Hanna asks if he’s stealing his payday. He says he’s not going unless they talk, but Hanna says she’ll have his ass dragged out of there, like they did to her in that damn bar. Benny says it was for her own good, and she asks what he knows about anyone’s own good. He sounds like his sister. He says he just wants to ask her a question, and she says, keep disrespecting and disregarding her request. She gets out her phone, and says she needs the police. Benny asks if Derrick raped her, and she says, this is what he’s going to do? Candace says she told him that wasn’t the guy, and Hanna asks why he thinks that. Candace says her generation uses this thing called the internet, and Benny asks what he did to her. He looked it up, and the dude raped her. He tries to show her the picture again, and she says she didn’t say that. Benny says he’ll find out, and Hanna asks where he’s going. He says she wants him out of there; what does it matter? He leaves, and Hanna tells Candace, see? All this is her fault. Get her things and get out. After everything they’ve been through, Hanna thought Candace would do the right thing. All her hopes and prayers… Candace says, it’s millions, but Hanna says, it’s not hers. Candace says, it is now, but Hanna says she’s never going to get it. Her brother is going to get hurt. Candace says Mitch will take care of it, and Hanna asks, how? Candace says, he’ll throw Benny off. Make him take a look at someone else, not Derrick. Hanna tells her to get her stuff and get out.

In bed with a guy, Veronica says, it’s what she’s been missing. We see it’s David, and he says he’s missed her; he loves her so much. She says she loves him too. Why are they going through all this? He says he’s sorry he hit her, and she says she’s sorry for what she did to hm. She loves him, and he says he wants to stay with her forever. She asks if he promises, and tells him to hold her like he used to all night. They spoon, and he asks if he told her that he was in love with Hanna. Suddenly David is gone, and Veronica cries. I don’t think we’ve ever seen her cry in all these years. I almost feel sorry for her. Almost.

Sandy tells Mitch, it was insane. Benny comes in, and Sandy says, you’ve got to be kidding. Vinny is coming back; Benny can’t be there. Mitch tells Sandy, shut up. Benny asks, what’s going on? and Mitch says he did some research. He has a cousin Louise who works in county records, and she got access somehow. Benny asks what Mitch found, and Mitch says the records were mixed up. It’s not Derrick; they’re two different guys. He shows Benny a picture, and Benny says, good. He was about to kill Derrick. Mitch says he’s got to let it go. Benny asks why all that’s on the internet, and Mitch says, Benny knows how it is. This is the most real government issued background check. He says Benny’s got the wrong dude, and Benny thanks him. Mitch says he should lay off; pick his battles. Mitch wants to keep Hanna out of there. Mama Rose walks in with her boys, and Benny leaves.

Sandy says, what the hell? He told Mitch. Mitch says, shut up, and Rose tells them all to shut up. Mitch asks how she is, and she says, tired. He says it’s good to see her, and she says, same here, and hugs him. He says he loves her, and she says she loves him too. He asks if he can do anything for her, and she asks if he’s coming in. He looks at Vinny, and he says, nah; he can’t. She says, okay, then do something for her – leave. They have family business to discuss. He says, yes, mama, and Sandy says, don’t bring the Black back here. Mitch tells Sandy, watch his mouth in front of grandma, calling him a racist POS. Vinny tells Mitch, go, and Sandy asks how Mama Rose is doing. She says, she’s okay, and asks why he left the station. He says he had to get back to the bar. Rose says she heard he couldn’t handle it, and folded. Vinny says he did what he had to do. They can’t be disrespected in this town. He needs thicker skin. Rose says, two things. She’s tired, and thinks it’s time she joined their uncle in Florida. Tonight, Vinny proved he can run the business. It’s in his hands now. He thanks her, and she says, keep it going; keep the pressure on. He says he will, and she tells him, take her home. She needs to sleep. She stinks of jail. They’re about to leave, and she says, wait; she almost forgot. Kathryn Cryer was in the cell next to her. They paid to keep their son alive? Vinny says, true, and she says, $75,000? Vinny says, no; $50,000. She says, Kathryn said 75, but Rose said she wanted a million. Vinny laughs, and Rose says, that bitch wants to go to war with her? Find him and keep him until she gets her money. She gave Kathryn 24 hours.

Wyatt pulls up in front of a house, and a dude says, bro, what you need? Another asks if he’s a cop, and Wyatt says, with a car like this? Dude tells him, he says, it ain’t like cops don’t drive a nice car. Wyatt asks what he’s got, and dude asks if he has money Wyatt says he’s got jewelry; a nice watch. Dude says he’s not going shopping, and calls his friend over to check it out. Wyatt hands over the watch, and the second guy says, it’s cheap, but Wyatt says, it’s worth $45K. Dude pockets the watch, and says the only place they take jewelry in the middle of the night is the Iron Bone. Wyatt says he can’t go there, and asks dude to give him something. Dude says he can’t do that here. He tells his friend, that man says he wants drugs, and he’s got nothing but jewelry. A girl comes up to the car, and says, hey. Wyatt asks what she’s got, and she says she’s got what he needs. She asks to see the ring he’s holding, and says, damn. She gives him something, but he says, it’s not enough. She says she can get the rest. Let’s go for a drive. Wyatt gets out, and lets her get in the driver’s seat.

Candace brings down her suitcase, and tells Benny, this is it. Benny says, packed and ready to go. He asks where she’s going, and she thinks Atlanta. She’ll let him know when she’s settled. He says he’ll miss her, and she says she’ll miss him too. It’s a helluva start. He thanks her, and she thanks him, saying she means it. They’ve been through crap, and he feels her. He says she’s been there for him, and he appreciates it. She tells him that she loves him, and says, it’s not going sit well with mama. He says he knows. She asks where he’s going, and he says, a little place. Maybe he’ll buy it outright, in his name. He’ll get a tow truck, and get back in the grind with Mitch. She says, if Jim bothers him, let her know; he’s scared to death of the Malones. Be safe.

They walk out, and Derrick is waiting. Benny asks what the hell he’s doing there, and Derrick says he came by to talk to Hanna. Benny says, she’s not there, and asks what the hell Derrick did to her. He says that’s between him and Hanna. Candace says, and her apparently, and Derrick says, and her. Benny asks what they’re talking about, and Derrick asks to speak to Candace. Benny asks, what’s going on? but Candace says she doesn’t know. Derrick says, please, and she asks Benny to give them a second. He heads for his truck, and says, five minutes. Candace says she’ll give Derrick three. Derrick tells her that he had a drug problem as a teenager… when he did that to her mother. He’s regretted it every day since. He didn’t know anything about Candace, and he’s so sorry. He’s a much better man now. He’s not that little boy anymore. He’s so sorry, and he wanted her to know that. She says, okay, and he asks if there’s anything she wants to say to him. She says, yes, and he readies himself. She says, goodbye, and he says, okay. Sorry. She walks over to Benny.

Benny asks what that was about, and Candace says she hopes she can get a flight. She gets in the truck.

Vinny tells Sandy that he knows it was a lot for him to see. He got to know how the business rolls. Sandy says he gets it now, and Vinny says he’s is in charge. He’ll be doing things different. He needs to turn up the heat. Sandy asks what he’s thinking about, and Vinny says, the Cryer kid. He paid $50K. There’s something about that… Mama Rose said she thought it was $75K, but he got $50K. Mama wants her money, and they’ve got to get it. She also wants someone in a cell; a family member of the Castille kid. They see Wyatt come in, and Sandy says, you’ve got to be kidding. He wonders if he’s seeing things, but Vinny says he’s not. They just got a gift.

Next time, Vinny talks to Wyatt, Jim wants to know where his son is, Kathryn says no one is more ruthless than her, Jeffrey tells Justin to just leave him alone (for the five millionth time), and Vinny tells Sandy to kill Wyatt.

🌃 Another Late Night…

Saving the tea, and saying goodnight. May you stay safe, stay dazzling, and stay in Mama Rose’s good graces.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Shahs of Sunset

Destiney meets sister Cat for breakfast. In Destiney’s interview, she says Cat is everything to her. She’s strong, independent; a mother, sister, and father-like figure. They’re so close, and even did People’s Couch together. I loved that show! Destiney says she’s trying to get everything out of her head, and Cat thinks things should be brought down a notch. In her interview, Destiney says she doesn’t get the accusations that she planned the bullsh*t between Reza and Ali. She tells Cat, she isn’t getting respect from the people around her, and Cat says, then Destiney doesn’t need them walking with her on her journey. She asks how Destiney’s dating life is going, and Destiney says she went to Vegas, and was catching a vibe with Sara’s brother. They ended up making out. Um… I think it was more than that. She says she’s been dealing with Sara’s drama, and feels bullied. Cat asks if she cares about Sam, and Destiney says part of her is vibing with him, but it’s complicated. It’s driving her crazy. In her interview, she says no one is going to tell her who she can or can’t date. Cat says they have to live life like it’s their last day. She and Destiney high-five.

GG and Sara meet to visit a Reiki master. GG sees a dead bee, and tells Sara, an animal shaman told her that her spirit animal was a bee, and she wonders if it’s a sign. Reiki master Romeo says he’s going to go through her chakras to determine the trauma to her body and soul. In GG’s interview, she says she believes in different forms of healing energy, and hopes this will give her an answer as to why this happened (referring to her miscarriage). She tells Sara that the remaining embryo and placenta is stuck right now. They gave her injections of something to make it dissolve and go away, but that hasn’t happened. Sara says, it’s a lot. In her interview, GG says she’s been pregnant a few times. She’s put her body through so many things. Is this her karma for taking advantage of her body? She believes in walking energy, and that some people have the skill to gather and move energy, and locate where the body needs healing, giving their energy to you. Romeo has both of them close their eyes, and invite his energy in. Afterwards, GG lies down, and Romeo’s hands hover over her. He says her chakras are open. GG asks if she should pursue the things in her mind, or do they need to take a backseat? Romeo says he’s going to ask spirit real quick, and concentrates. He tells her, basically, there’s a lot of positivity in the next three months. In her interview, she says it will take three months for her to heal from the medications she’s been given. He says a shift is going to happen in that time, and GG says, it makes sense.

Reza calls Nema from the car, and Nema tells him, the more he talks to MJ, the more it makes sense that there’s no crazy ulterior motive. He suggests Reza sit and talk. Reza says Nema and Mike have drunk the Kool-Aid, and are being messy. In Mike’s interview, he says MJ was a pawn, and he wants to be done with this foolishness. Reza says, if they want to be friends with MJ, why don’t they crawl up her ass? Nema says, he just wants them to talk, but Reza doesn’t want to. He has a legal case against MJ’s husband, who vandalized his house. He doesn’t want to put himself in harm’s way with her criminally violent husband. In Reza’s interview, he says Nema is only worried about how it’s going to affect himself. He wants to be in the mix, and is just making it worse. He tells Nema, stay out of his business. He doesn’t need help. He hangs up while Nema is still talking.

Nema meets Shervin at a martial arts studio. In Nema’s interview, he says he studies Jiu-Jitsu. Persians don’t have a combat sport, and the only belt Shervin has is Gucci. Their defense system is lawyers and an American Express card. They go through some exercises, and then do a few rounds of what looks similar to wrestling, where Shervin gets the upper hand. In his interview, Nema says Shervin is able to disable and disarm him with his disgusting body hair and sweaty palms, bringing on Nema’s gag reflex. Shervin asks if Nema is really going with the gag reflex defense, and Nema tells him that he’s really gross. They sit down, and Nema says he likes this because it checks his ego. He spoke to Reza, and Reza made it a screaming match. In Nema’s interview, he says when Reza claims Nema is meddling from a place of self-interest, that says his marriage is falling apart, and he’s blaming everyone and anyone around. He tells Shervin, for Reza to risk their friendship shows a disassociation with himself. No matter how tough Reza pretends to be, he thinks Reza is hurt.

Mike brings flowers to his mom Sue. He, Sue, and dad Shawn sit down in front of the traditional tons of food for any and every occasion. Mike asks what they think of Paulina, and after a long pause, Sue says, she looks like a good girl. Mike says it’s the first time he’s dating a Persian girl, and the first time he’s dating a Jewish girl. Why don’t they look happy? In Mike’s interview, he says his parents don’t feel he’s capable of a long term relationship. We flash back to Mike’s failed marriage with Jessica. Sue tells him to take his time. When he hurts, all of them hurt, and they want to make sure he doesn’t do it again. She asks how the progress is with the project. Maybe Mike should sell the permits and plan, and get out; the land is worth a million. Mike says, why make two million when he can make five or six? In his interview, Mike says his mom feels that he’s in over his head with the project. Sue says, it’s going to be two years of hard work. Maybe he’s better off getting out. Shawn tells him to make someone an offer they can’t refuse.

MJ and Tommy go to see a therapist. In MJ’s interview, she says Tommy is normally funny and lighthearted, but now he’s heartbroken, thinking about how he almost lost her. We flash back to Tommy weeping over MJ’s near death experience. She says, they’ve come there to heal. There’s no reason for this bullsh*t in their lives. Dr. K’harja says she’ll start with Tommy, and asks why he’s there. He says he’s had a tough go of it since MJ had the baby. They couldn’t remove the placenta, and it was terrifying. MJ says she knows it has something to do with Tommy’s mother dying. He says he became an angry kid, and got in a lot of trouble. K’harja says the aftermath has the potential to dredge up old stuff again. She brings MJ into the conversation, and in her interview, MJ hopes Tommy will be back to his old self in short order. She wants solutions, and wants to know what they need to be for each other. K’harja asks what MJ’s experience is, and MJ says, having a baby is stressful, but this is another level. K’harja says it’s critical that Tommy get support for his PTSD. MJ says as soon as she woke up, she started making jokes. Culturally, they’re supposed to be strong and move on. In her interview, she says she and Tommy couldn’t be more different. If they don’t have the tools to heal each other, it could poison their marriage past the point of no return. K’harja says, sadness turns to anger if it sits too long. In trying to communicate and support each other, Tommy needs to say he just wants her to listen or he needs a minute. In MJ’s interview, she says she loves Tommy with all her heart, and he deserves to feel that, even if she’s not saying it in the moment.

Reza takes Adam along to buy a car for his mom. Adam says, what if she doesn’t love it? but Reza says he bought her the last car, and she loved it. In his interview, he says his dad left his mom broken, and she did everything she could to give her children the best life. She made so many sacrifices, a car is literally the least he could do for her. He used to car shop with Mike. We flash back to Mike and Reza at a dealership, and Reza telling Mike to act like he doesn’t have money. With the bullsh*t in Arizona, and Mike going to Vida’s retirement party, he’s blocked Mike and Shervin on his on phone, Twitter, and Instagram. Nothing good can come from them trying to fix things.

Mike goes to the development project, and in his interview, he says, it’s hard. He’d love to have his best friend there to help, like when they were building his house. Unfortunately, Reza is mad that Mike’s not siding with him enough, and he doesn’t hate MJ enough on Reza’s Richter scale of hatred.

Reza sees a car coming in on a truck. The kind of truck I hate to be near on the highway, because I’m always afraid one is going to come loose and fall off. He asks how much it is, and the dealer says, $40K. Reza says he wants that one.

Mike meets with real estate broker Jordan. In his interview, Mike says his mom is strongly urging him to sell, but he doesn’t like playing it safe. Jordan tells him the property is worth $2-2.5 million, and in Mike’s interview, he says it’s not worth enough to sell, but now he has to get his mom off his back, and develop it. He thinks it will be worth $10-15 million when he’s done. There are a lot of naysayers and doubters, like Reza, but the reality is, he’s doing it. Jordan asks if he knows what he’s getting into, and Mike says he’s going to fake it until he makes it.

GG is in the ER. She asks Fatima if everything went okay, and Fatima says, everything is good. In GG’s interview, she says she was in a lot of pain on her way home. She went to the hospital, and they did surgery, taking both of her fallopian tubes. She can never get pregnant the natural way. She asks if she’ll be okay, and Fatima says she will. GG is glad it’s over. In her interview, she says she’s been pregnant too many times by accident. To never be able to get pregnant again is karma, and what she deserves for the life she’s led for so many years. She asks if she peed on herself during surgery, and Fatima laughs.

In the car, Shervin tells Mike, the weather is weird, and everyone is bipolar. GG texted him, asking how much she needed to pay him to keep her name out of his mouth. Mike says, GG had complications with a pregnancy, and explains GG had an ectopic pregnancy, and they had to remove her fallopian tubes, but she’s going to try again. He doesn’t understand how she can, and in his interview, Mike describes IVF as a sperm and an egg being put in the vagina, since he apparently doesn’t know exactly where babies are formed, and that you don’t necessarily need fallopian tubes. Shervin tells him, the uterus doesn’t go backward.

GG smokes some weed. The doorbell rings, and it’s Nema. GG says she’s in a lot of pain, so Nema answers the door when Destiney arrives. She tells GG that she knows eventually GG will be okay, and she’ll allow herself to heal, and be in the moment. In GG’s interview, she says, it’s the new her. She’s not angry with world for everything that happens to her anymore. Destiney is wearing a sexy nurse outfit, and GG says she must have died and gone to heaven. Destiney says she’s Nurse Rose, and has brought goodies. She gives GG a fancy domino mask, a feather boa, and prunes, just in case. GG says she went all out.

Mike tells Shervin, everyone was on the text, and Shervin wonders if Reza will show. In Shervin’s interview, he says they went to Vida’s party, and because they chose to be supportive of her retirement, Reza threw a tantrum, took his toys, and left the sandbox. He doesn’t want to play now. Reza talks to other people who have said and done as much, and says they’re friends. He tells Mike, he doesn’t like that Reza made them choose a side, and doesn’t give a f*** what happened. If you don’t stop something like that in its tracks, it continues, catches speed, and there’s no stopping it. In Mike’s interview, he says, Reza has known them both for years, and has hurt him in many ways, but he’s learned to forgive. Shervin says, all the weight of the tension is falling on them, and Mike says they need to learn to forgive each other.

Tommy takes out a new seat, and MJ tells him to clean up the mess, since Polina is coming over. In Tommy’s interview, he says Polina was a friend from many years back, and she’s a sharp-tongued hard-nosed lawyer, who takes no bullsh*t. He tells MJ, that he’s shocked there’s no spread of food to give Polina, since it’s the Persian way. MJ wonders if she can give Polina a diaper, but quickly makes a chartcuterie board. In her interview, she says Tommy has two cases to deal with; one civil, and one criminal. Because Reza called the cops, he’s been charged with vandalism, which is criminal. Reza also filed a restraining order, which is a civil case. The fact that Tommy has to retain an attorney is ridiculous. She says she didn’t sue when Reza damaged her sofa while he was painting her condo. Because that’s so much the same thing.

The Shahs, minus MJ, gather at GG’s place. I wonder where the damn food is. In GG’s interview, she says she wants her friends to know what happened. She hopes they wake up and realize the issue with MJ is minute, compared to bigger issues, like what she went through. She explains that she was pregnant, and it was an ectopic pregnancy. Only 1% of IVF patients have that happen. Everyone is in shock, and she says she got injections to make it dissolve, and her pain was really bad. It can kill a person, so they went in and removed both of her fallopian tubes. Now she can never get pregnant naturally. It is what it is. Everyone gets teary, and she says, it happened so fast, before she was able to… She starts to cry, and says, before she could appreciate being pregnant, she lost part of her reproductive system. That’s what made her realize a lot of this needs to stop between them. She believes it’s karma. Shervin is closest to her, and when she was going in to surgery, she expected to see him. He says he’s sorry, and wishes he’d been there. She says, everybody is going through sh*t, and she wants someone to do something at this point.

Nema says Reza’s comments about him sharing the dynamic affected him massively, and Mike says Reza blocked him because he didn’t chose a side. Reza says there was no compassion and insight to how he was feeling, and Mike was looking at it from the opposite angel. Mike says, you’re either with MJ or Reza, and Nema says he’s invested in them both, and wanted to see two friends come together. If he overstepped, he apologizes. Reza says, it made things ten times worse, and made him angrier. He had to take a moment. The intentions are pure, but he can’t talk right now. He could get in a better place with MJ if he wasn’t hearing the noise. He was in a dark place, and none of them knew what he was going through. Mike says Reza is making it sound like no one has sympathy. MJ was crying, and saying she effed up, and Ali better tun if Mike sees him, but Mike didn’t do anything to Reza. Reza says he needed a hug, and to be understood, but was left in pain, while Mike kept harping on MJ being his friend for thirty years. GG tells them that they can’t talk over each other. They’re individuals who all need to be heard. Mike says he’s supported Reza throughout their entire friendship, and Reza has done the same.

In Mike’s interview, he says there have been so many times he was having trouble, and Reza told him what he needed to hear. We flash back to Reza telling Mike that he sucks at being a husband, and Mike says, now he’s done the same because of what he learned from Reza, and he’s the bad guy. Reza says he was talking emotionally, and trying to explain how isolated he felt. Mike says Reza insisted he was either with him or MJ. GG says they deal with things the same way every time; deal with it differently. Reza says he was never mad at them. He gets irrational when he feels like he’s under attack and hurt. He was very alone and isolated. He’s an accountable person, and said disgusting vial things because he was hurt. He could have done it differently, but he was stupid, and wants to apologize. He put everyone in the position that they had to choose between two people they care about, and he didn’t mean to.

Tommy asks Polina, what if Reza decides to drop the charges? and she says the restraining order is in Reza’s hands. MJ says, Reza needs to come to his senses, and Polina says, if he does, it will be thrown out, but the criminal charges are up to the judge. It could be either a misdemeanor or a felony, if it’s over $400 in damage. In MJ’s interview, she can’t believe over $400 is a felony. Polina says, it’s not as light an offense as they thought. Tommy says, it’s all bullsh*t, and asks what the worst case is. Polina says he could spend time in county jail. In her interview, MJ says, all this mess could have been avoided if Reza hadn’t called the cops over broken pottery. Oh, okay. I guess it couldn’t have been avoided if Tommy hadn’t broken the pottery in the first place. Tommy says he has to take responsibility, and in MJ’s interview, she says it’s a nine inch nail in their friendship and family. It’s over.

Mike says, dirty sh*t happened, and they all stepped outside of their norm. Shervin, Mike, and Reza have a three-way hug. In Reza’s interview, he says he feels better now. Clearly, he needs to apologize to MJ. Maybe they can form a new relationship and friendship from ground zero. Reza tells them, after the hug, he never needs to wear cologne again.

Next time, Destiney and GG get injectables, Reza and MJ meet, and GG needs an ambulance.

🤷🏻‍♀️ What’s a Weekend…?

There are never any days off for me, but I’m sure it’s weird for a lot of people when Saturday is just like Monday. Remember, this too shall pass. Everything in life is temporary, even life itself. Well, maybe not if you’re one of The Walking Dead. See you then, and in the meantime, stay safe out there.
