General Hospital

Valentin says, that’s not the usual greeting he gets when he walks in the door. How would he know who shot at Anna? Anna says, they’ll get to that. Can he tell her first of all what that message meant? He says, maybe he’s still a little jet-lagged, but what message are they talking about? She says, the one he had her deliver to Sonny.

Martin goes into Cyrus’s room and asks how big brother is feeling today. He knows they’re shipping Cyrus back to Pentenville, and can’t imagine he’s very happy about that. Cyrus says, just tell him that Martin did as he asked, and Martin says he did exactly as Cyrus asked; transfer all of his accounts to the rehabilitation institute. Cyrus says, excellent. With the help of God and that money, many lives will be saved. Martin says, what about Cyrus’s life? Far be it for him to second-guess Cyrus’s generosity, but it appears he’s penniless. Is he sure he made the right decision? Cyrus says, for the love of money is the root of all evil (I appreciate him quoting that correctly), and Martin says, play it his way. He doesn’t have to understand Cyrus’s benevolence, but he can’t shake the feeling that somehow, some way, there’s something in it for him. Cyrus says he did his part. Let’s leave it at that; the rest is in God’s hands. Austin looks in through the window.

Sasha wakes up and sees the door to her room open. Cody walks in, and she says his name.

Finn asks if Elizabeth knows where he may find the head nurse, and she wonders if she can ask what this is about. He says, it’s a bit personal… embarrassing really, but she has a kind face. He supposes he can tell her. She says, go on, and he says he wanted to thank her. He was having this crisis of confusion. He has feelings for a co-worker and thought she didn’t feel the same way about him, which is understandable, so he was thinking of leaving GH to avoid running into her every day… literally. He’s quite clumsy. She says she’s guessing he had second thoughts about this, and he says he has. He won’t be seeking a position at another hospital. Gregory comes out of the elevator, and Elizabeth says she thinks she can speak for the head nurse. She’s quite happy he’s going to stay. He says, really? He realized that GH has something he won’t find anywhere else in the world. He notices Gregory and says, hey. What brings him by?

Tracy finds Olivia in the nook, and asks, where is he? Olivia asks, who? and Tracy says her son, the wandering warbler, of course (🍷). Olivia says, since she no longer shares a bed with him, she really wouldn’t know, but she assumes Eddie is still asleep since he was out all night club hopping again. Tracy says, enough is enough. They have to do something now. Olivia asks what she means, and Tracy says, it’s time to have Ned committed.

Gregory says he didn’t mean to interrupt, and tells Elizabeth and Finn to carry on with their conversation. Just pretend he was never here. Finn says, it’s okay. He was just telling Elizabeth how he decided to stay at GH. Gregory says he had no idea Finn was planning to leave. He hopes everything is okay. Finn says, more than okay. He thought he might be better off at another hospital, but then he realized what he’d be giving up. Elizabeth says, GH’s most brilliant doctor, and what would they all do without his scintillating bedside manner? Finn says, this from a woman who once referred to him as a curmudgeon, and Elizabeth tells him that she didn’t say that. Everybody else calls him that, but not her. She finds him very charming. She leaves, and Gregory says, Finn is smiling. Finn says, he can’t help it. She said he was charming.

Olivia says, when Tracy uses the word committed… Tracy says, to a mental ward. Ned needs help; analysis under a doctor’s supervision. Olivia asks if she really thinks that’s the way to go, and Ned almost walks in, but hangs back, listening. Olivia says, what is she going to do, throw him in a padded cell with a straitjacket? but Tracy says, this is not One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She’s trying to save her son, and a psychiatrist can tell if he’s faking or if he really believes he’s Eddie Maine. Olivia asks if she really thinks this is the way to go, and Tracy says, yes, she does. He can’t keep staying out all night and partying. He’s going to crash and burn, and she’s trying to stop it before it happens. The best thing Olivia can do for him is put him in a psychiatric facility. Ned continues to listen, and Olivia says, whatever Ned is calling himself these days, she’s still his wife. So legally, she’s the only one who could have him committed. Tracy says, fine. Have at it. Do the honors. Just do it soon, because this has gone on way too long, and they have to put an end to it. Ned looks concerned, as we all would be.

Sasha says, it’s good to see Cody, and he slams the door shut. She asks if he’s okay, and he says, how can he be okay when she tried to murder him? She plunged a knife in his side, or doesn’t she remember that? She says she never meant to… He yells that she knew exactly what she was doing. And all he’s ever done is try to help her. What the hell was he thinking? He goes to the door, and she says, wait. He turns around, and he’s Cyrus, who says, she’s nothing but a strung-out junkie. No one can help her now. She’s going to die in a back alley with a needle in her arm. She says, he’s not real. He’s not here. Leave her alone. He holds out a bag of white powder and says, come on. You know you want it. Here it is. Go on. Take it. She tells him to leave her alone, and he says, she needs him. he backs her up against the wall and says, no one else wants her. Come back to him. She starts to cry and slides down the wall.

Brook messes around on the keyboard, and Cody asks what she’s doing. She says, knitting, and he says, very funny. He’s been looking for her all day. She’s been ignoring his calls and texts. She says she’s sorry. She left her phone upstairs. What’s up? He says he needs her help with Sasha. He’s really worried about her and has to help her, but the only way to do that is get into Ferncliff. She says, good luck with that, and he says, that’s where she comes in.

Martin says, Cyrus is going to leave everything in God’s hands, and Cyrus says, I trust in our Benevolent Creator. Martin says, obviously. Enough to pad that foundation’s bank account, that’s for sure. Cyrus says, in discovering the truth about life, you discover how meaningless money really is, and Martin asks if Cyrus is sure the heart attack didn’t damage his… memory for one thing. Although he did manage to put together those forms and give Martin access to his money, so… Cyrus says he remembers the kind of man he was, and he knows the road to forgiveness is long and treacherous. Martin hopes Cyrus remembers the kind of man his brother is. He’s always been a bit of a cynic. Cyrus says, yes, and he prays one day they can remedy that frailty together, and Martin says, until they do, does Cyrus mind if he proffers an opinion? As his attorney, it appears Cyrus is penniless. As his brother, Martin strongly has his doubts. Cyrus says, Martin saw all his accounts. He devested and gave everything away. Martin says, that’s right. In his experience, men like Cyrus… excuse him. Men like Cyrus used to be seldom stash everything in a place where it can so easily be found. Cyrus asks if Martin is accusing him of holding back, and Martin says he’s strongly suggesting it’s a possibility. Cyrus says, oh ye of little faith, and Martin says, come on. Please. Just back away from the Good Book long enough to look his baby brother in the face and give him an honest answer. Cyrus says, Martin gave away every dime he had, and Martin says he guesses he’ll just have to take Cyrus’s word for it then. Cyrus says, as God is his witness he’ll never go hungry again.

Anna says, Valentin called him from Chechnya and asked him to deliver a message to Sonny. He asked her to take it to Sonny in person, which she did, but their connection was so bad. She wanted to get some more information from him because she has a lot of questions. He says, such as? and she says, here’s the thing. Sonny is being very kind to her recently, which is nice, but it doesn’t change the fact he’s running a criminal enterprise. So it makes her wonder why Valentin is sending cryptic messages to him, but more important, what did that message mean? Because Sonny seemed to understand what he was referring to; she’d like to also. He says he’s sorry. He had no intention of involving her in any of this, but he was helping Laura in Russia and didn’t have choice. She says, she understands that. His priority was helping Laura find Nikolas, and she thinks that’s probably why she just went ahead and did what he asked without questioning it. He says he appreciates that and thanks her, and she says, but the timing is really interesting, right? Because she was delivering that message to Sonny at the MetroCourt pool, and two minutes later, she was shot at. There’s got to be some kind of connection. Is he keeping something from her?

Martin tells Cyrus, good luck. Is there anything else Cyrus needs him to do? Cyrus says, he’s done enough, and thanks him. Martin says he worries about Cyrus going back to that place. He’d hate to have to tell mother that something happened to him there. Cyrus says, somehow, he doesn’t think she would care, but he made peace with that a long time ago. Martin says, she always asks about him. He’s got to go see a client. Cyrus says, about a horse? and Martin laughs. He tells Cyrus to take care of himself and leaves.

In the hallway, Martin sees Austin and wonders if he can ask him a quick question. His brother is being transferred back to Pentenville today, and he’s concerned about it being so soon after the heart attack. Is Austin sure it’s not risky? Austin says, all of his test results are back and things look good. He doesn’t know Mr. Renault very well, but he seems like a pretty tough cookie. His phone dings, and he tells Martin that he wouldn’t worry. He’s sure everything is fine. Martin thanks him and continues on. Austin sees a text from Mason: Your office. Now.

Delusion Cyrus says, Sasha is just a violent psychopath. She cries, and Cyrus turns into Cody, who says, she’s going to be locked away for the rest of her miserable, pathetic life. Then you’re going to rot in hell for what you did to me, you crazy bitch. She says, no! She never meant to hurt him. He has to believe her. She thought he was someone else. She thought he was Cyrus; she stabbed Cyrus. He says, look at him. Look at what she did to him. She sees the knife sticking out of his bloody side, and scream/cries.

Real Cody says, Sasha does not belong in Ferncliff, and Brook tells him that he keeps saying that, but… He says, something isn’t right here. He can feel it. He just has to figure out what it is. She says, and he thinks getting into Ferncliff will give him the answer? and he says he does, but he can’t get in. He already tried once and almost got caught. She tells him, when he says it like that, it sounds like something shady is going on, and he says he may have told them that he was Dante Falconari. She says, he impersonated a cop? Is he crazy? He already doesn’t have a great relationship with the PCPD. He says, but he does have a great relationship with Dante, and she says, then why doesn’t Cody just ask Dante to get him into Ferncliff? He says, because that shyster Gladys has to give permission for any visitors. She doesn’t want him anywhere near that place. The last thing she wants is for him talking to Sasha, but she does like Brook. She’s his only hope. Will Brook call her please?

Olivia tells Tracy, absolutely not. She will not have her husband committed. Tracy says, he won’t be her husband again unless she has him committed. The best thing she can do for him is get him help. Ned continues to listen, and Olivia says, but how does Tracy know that committing him is going to help? They could load him full of drugs. They could give him electroshock therapy. It’s still legal to give someone a lobotomy. Tracy says, Olivia’s seen too many movies. It’s only a matter of time before he puts himself in a dangerous situation, or worse than that, he runs off with a groupie and we can’t find him. Olivia says, Ned would never do that, and Tracy says, right. Ned would never do that, but Eddie Maine would. They have to get him treatment. Olivia needs her husband, she needs her son, Leo needs his father. Please… Olivia says, no. She’s not going to do it. Not now, not ever. She doesn’t care if he calls himself Eddie Maine for the rest of his life. Tracy storms off.

Valentin tells Anna, okay. Initially, he was supposed to be an intermediary between a third party and Sonny Corinthos. They asked him to reach out to Sonny on their behalf, and he did. As soon as they came to a preliminary agreement, he assumed that was the end of his involvement. She says, until he asked her to give Sonny a message concerning who he should and shouldn’t trust while doing business with this third party. He says, that was information he was compelled Sonny should have, and she asks how he obtained this information he was compelled to share. He says he’s not sure he’s comfortable with this line of questioning, and she says, he sounds like a lawyer. Come on. He’s not talking to a client; he’s talking to her, the person he claims to love. Can he just tell her what’s going on? Like, why is he involved with Sonny, and who is the third party? He says, a defense contractor, and she asks, what’s the name of the company? He says, Pikeman.

Austin goes to his office, but doesn’t see Mason. He goes out into the hall, then goes back in, and Mason is in his office. He asks, what’s with the hiding? and Mason asks if he’s heard from Betty or Corinthos’s Pikeman connection? Austin says, this is Mason’s game, not his. Mason put all these pieces into play. You handle Betty. Although he hopes Mason handles Betty better than he handled Gordon. Mason says, Austin thinks he shot Gordon? He wouldn’t waste his time. Austin says, Mason didn’t like that guy and owed him money. Wait until the PCPD puts those pieces together. It’s motivation for wanting somebody gone, doesn’t he think? Mason says, if it was him, he wouldn’t be the one worried about the cops sniffing around. How long is it going to be before they find out Austin had a fight with Gordon outside the restaurant? It seemed pretty fancy and there were cameras everywhere.

Anna asks if Valentin has any idea how dangerous Pikeman is, and he says, years ago before Charlotte was born, he had dealings with them. He handled logistics, but he wasn’t working for Pikeman. He was working for an independent contractor, and they consulted on a few projects. She asks why he’s never told her about this before, and he says he’s done business with a lot of companies he’s never told her about before. She asks if that’s supposed to make her feel better, and he says he hates her thinking that he’s intentionally keeping secrets from her. Pikeman came to him because they know him and like his work. They know he has an acquaintance with Sonny, and it didn’t seem like an unreasonable request, so he did it. He thought that was going to be the end of it. She says, he’s not the only person who could make an introduction to Sonny. There has to be a reason they chose him. He says, it’s not easy to get a meeting with Sonny Corinthos. They asked him to be an intermediary, and he agreed. She asks why he would do that. What was he thinking?

Ned tells Olivia that he heard everything she and Tracy said, and thanks her for standing up for him. That woman is a bully. Olivia says, that woman usually gets her way, but not this time. He has nothing to worry about. She’s the only one who can have him legally committed and she has no intention of doing that, but she does want him to get help. Just not on Tracy’s terms. He says he appreciates her help, but the bottom line is, he’s not Ned. So no matter what they try to do – therapy, hypnosis, analysis – nothing is going to change him into someone he’s not. There is no Ned. He doesn’t exist. She says, yes, he does, and there’s a ton of evidence to prove it. There’s birth certificates and passports and driver’s licenses… He says, those are pieces of paper. He knows who he is. She says, he can’t argue with fingerprints. Whatever he may believe, he is Ned Quartermaine. He is her husband. He’s Brook’s father; he’s Leo’s father. And they love him, and they need him back. He says he’s sorry. Ned’s not coming back. He’s gone. She just has to accept that and move on. He won’t pretend to be someone he’s not. He needs to sing. He needs his music. That’s who he is, and without it, he’s nothing. She says, what if there was a way that he could have his music and be part of this family too? He says he doesn’t follow, and she says, his daughter Brook is a spectacular songwriter; use her. Why don’t the two of them make music together?

Gregory says, it looks like things are going well between Finn and Elizabeth, and Finn says, the signs point to yes. Gregory looks puzzled, and Finn says, the kid’s thing… The Magic Eight Ball. You shook it up and asked a question… Never mind. The outlook’s good; at least it’s a maybe. Gregory says he’s happy for Finn, and Finn thanks him, but says, Gregory never told him why he came over here. Gregory says he’s doing some research. He’s doing an op-ed in The Invader on memory care facilities. Finn says he’s sorry, but he has a patient he’s got to see. They’ll talk about that trip to Disneyworld. He leaves, and Tracy comes out of the elevator. She asks what Gregory is doing here. Actually, she was worried about him at the MetroCourt. He says he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and she says, when they had dinner. He couldn’t pick up his credit card. Was something wrong?

Cody waits just inside a door at Ferncliff, while Brook goes to the desk. She asks what the nurse’s name is, and Janice shows Brook her ID. Brook says, Janice. That’s a nice name. She always liked the name Jan. The Brady Bunch was her favorite show. Does she remember Jan? She was always so jealous of her sister, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. Did anyone ever call her Jan? Janice asks how she can help Brook, and Brook says she’s actually here to visit her friend Sasha Gilmore. They work together at Deception, the cosmetics company. She’s sure Janice has heard of it. She should try their Perfectly Peach lipstick; it would look great with her coloring. Janice says she doesn’t wear lipstick and she hates peach, the color and the fruit. Just hand her a driver’s license and she’ll check to see if Brook is on the list of approved visitors. Brook gives her the license, and Jancie says, her name looks familiar. Does she know Brook from somewhere? Brook says she doesn’t think so, and Janice asks if she’s the BLQ who works with Blaze and Chase.

Anna says, Valentin had to know any dealings with Pikeman weren’t going to be above board. This is a defense contractor wanting to do business with the Corinthos organization, which screams illegal activities. He says, of course (🍷) he knew it would be questionable, but he didn’t care. She asks, why? Please help her understand. He doesn’t need the money. He says, it wasn’t about the money. He was hoping they could provide him with something more valuable than that. She says, what? and he says, when Pikeman first reached out to him, Victor had just framed Anna for Lucy’s so-called murder. He was blackmailing Holly Sutton; he was holding her son hostage. He seemed unstoppable, and Valentin was trying to find a way to stop him. She says, so he thought Pikeman could help him bring down Victor, and he says, yes. He thought there was a chance. She asks, why? and he says, because they’re connected to the WSB.

Gregory says, just because they had one dinner together doesn’t give Tracy the right to be calling around, prying into his private life. She says she wasn’t prying. She was asking a friend out of concern for him. He says, concern? She made a call asking if he had a medical problem. And since when are she and Alexis friends? His impression was that Alexis doesn’t include her in that category.

Finn comes out of the elevator as Elizabeth is walking by, and he says he has mold for her, handing her a box. She says she didn’t really like flowers anyway, and he says, it’s not really for her; it’s for Jake. He’s doing that science project for summer school and called Finn to ask for help. It’s about how mold grows into penicillin, so he grew some samples in his lab. There are some really good spores in here. She says she’s never seen someone so excited about fungus, and thanks him, taking the box. They hear Tracy say, this has absolutely nothing to do with Alexis, and Gregory saying, the more he gets to know her, the more he understands why Alexis… Elizabeth wonders why he did to deserve the wrath of Tracy.

Brook tells Janice that she was Chase’s manager, so he knows her, and Janice says she’s his biggest fan. The second a new song is released, she downloads it. She recorded his performance at the Nurses Ball and must have watched it a dozen times. Brook says, it’s her lucky day, because Chase and Blaze recorded a new duet. It doesn’t come out for months, but she can give Janice a sneak peek. Does she want to hear it? Janice says, that would be great, and Brook hands her earbuds, then scrolls on her phone. Janice listens and looks like she’s in heaven, while Brook motions to Cody and he slips down the hall.

Austin tells Mason, it wasn’t a fight. It was a heated discussion. Mason says, still. It doesn’t look good for Austin. Austin says, it had nothing to do with him. Gordon said Mason owed him money, and he told Gordon that he should talk to Mason. Something about another job he did for Mason. Does Mason want to explain what that’s all about? Mason says, Austin doesn’t need to know, and Austin says, he’s right. Get the hell out of his office. Mason says, where are Austin’s manners? He should be careful when he disrespects family. You never know when they’re going to turn on you. He walks out, leaving the door open.

Tracy asks Gregory what Alexis said that makes him think she’s not her biggest fan, and Elizabeth tells Finn that she’s sorry. He says, for what? and she says she knows Tracy is his friend, but sometimes she can come on a bit strong, doesn’t he think? He says, sometimes? Tracy is definitely an acquired taste, but she’s a good person. And he knows it’s hard to believe, but she has a soft side. She says, he’s right. It is hard to believe. He says, she’s also a ferocious backgammon player, and loves the competition just like his dad loves a good argument. It looks like he’s holding his own… kind of.

Tracy says she’s not going to stand here and defend her relationship with Alexis. It’s none of Gregory’s business. He says, just like his health is none of her business, and she says she can’t keep arguing with him about this. She has to speak to a doctor. He says, so she’s the one who needs medical help, but she says, it’s not for her. It’s for… It’s for her son. He needs to be committed.

Olivia brings Ned into another room, and says, that’s Brook’s keyboard. It’s where she writes most of her music. She’s sure Brook would love to have a writing partner. They could be Lennon and McCartney. He says he doesn’t know. He’s always done his own thing and doesn’t see himself as a duo. Olivia says, she wouldn’t be singing. She’d be helping him write songs and producing. He says, so she doesn’t sing? and Olivia says, she used to. It’s a long story. But it beats busking on a streetcorner, right? He says he needs more than this. He needs to be on a stage. He needs an audience. She says, he’s got one, and sits down.

Anna asks when this connection between Pikeman and the WSB started, and Valentin says he doesn’t know how far back it goes. He was with the WSB when Pikeman recruited him, as were a lot of current and former WSB agents who now find themselves working for Pikeman. It seemed to be some kind of revolving door. Any agent who left the Bureau could find a position at Pikeman. She says, so he worked for them years ago. She’s presuming at the time, Victor was head of the Bureau, and he says, yeah. Why?

Janice tells Brook that she’s all set. She’ll have an orderly take Brook to Sasha’s room.

Cody slips into Sasha’s room and sees her sitting against the wall. He says her name, but she doesn’t look at him. He closes the door and goes over to her. He says, it’s me, Cody, and she looks at him blankly.

Ned plays the keyboard as Olivia listens, and he flashes back to hearing Tracy say that he can’t keep staying out all night and partying. He’s going to crash and burn. She’s trying to stop that before it happens, and the best thing Olivia can do for him is put him in a psychiatric facility. He sings, and Olivia applauds at the end of the song. He says his throat’s really dry. Does she think she can get him something to drink? She suggests iced tea and leaves to get it.

Gregory says, committed? Why on earth would Tracy do that to her son? She says, Gregory saw him at Rice Plaza. He was delusional. He’s abandoned his wife, his children, and his business. What kind of mother would she be if she didn’t get him help? Gregory says, he’s not her responsibility; he’s an adult. She says, he’s an adult who believes he’s someone else. He says, she can’t lock him up because he doesn’t conform to who she wants him to be, and she says, this is not about her wanting him to be the perfect son. It’s about her trying to get him to see that he is her son, Ned Quartermaine. He says, she has no business giving away his agency. He has every right to live his life as he chooses. She can’t make decisions for him and deprive him of his liberty and independence. Doesn’t his freedom mean anything to her, because it should. Who cares what name he calls himself? The important thing is, he’s living his truth without anyone else interfering. If he hasn’t asked for help, he doesn’t need it. She says she didn’t ask for a lecture, but he says he’s just trying to help her see it from Ned’s point of view. She asks if he doesn’t mean Eddie. She’s sure he’s really trying to help her, but she knows what she has to do. She walks off, and Gregory goes over to Finn and Elizabeth. He says he doesn’t know how Finn puts up with that woman. If they’ll excuse him, he has some research to do. He leaves, and Elizabeth says, that was uncomfortable. He says, yeah, it was.

BTW, just call me Lady Gaga from now on. I’m living my truth.

Janice says, before Brook sees Miss Gilmore, she might want to prepare herself. Brook asks what she means, and Janice says, her friend is in a fragile state. She’s emotional and volatile. So Brook will need a medical professional with her during the visit. Ronald will stay in the room with her. Brook asks if that’s really necessary, and Janice says, yes. Dr. Montague left a note in her chart saying, all visits must be supervised. It’s for her own safety, as well as the patient’s. Ronald tells Brook, right this way please, and she follows him.

Cyrus is cuffed to a wheelchair and brought out of his room. Austin comes by, and looks at Cyrus, who smiles as he’s wheeled into the elevator. He continues to smile as the doors close.

Olivia brings in the iced tea, but the room is empty. She calls for Ned, then Eddie, but nothing.

Anna says, Valentin used to work for the WSB. He put together a deal with Pikeman and Sonny. Then he asked her, also a former agent, to deliver a message to Sonny. Then a couple of minutes later, shots are fired, either for Sonny or her, and the rifle used happened to be at one point in the custody of the Bureau. He asks if she thinks Pikeman and the WSB are behind the shooting, and she says she thinks the connection is stunningly obvious. She was the target, and she refuses to be a sitting duck, so if he’s got anything else he’s forgotten to tell her, now would be a really good time to do so, before they take another shot. Because honestly, the next time they might not miss. He says he’s told her everything he knows about Pikeman and their connection to the WSB. It kills him to think he put her in danger, because he never would have sent her to Sonny with that message if he’d known. She starts to walk out, and he asks where she’s going. She says, there’s a missing piece and she’s going to find out what that is.

Cody tells Sasha, it’s him; it’s Cody. Everything is going to be okay now. He’s going to try and get her out of here, okay? He touches her shoulder, and she says, no. Don’t touch her. She starts to scream at him to get away from her and leave her alone. She screams, get out! and Ronald runs in, followed by Brook. Ronald pulls Cody away from Sasha and tells him to get out right now. He’s calling security. Sasha continues to scream and cry, and Cody leaves, closing the door. Outside the room, Brook looks at Cody, terrified.

General Hospital

Sonny says, to protecting our own, and clinks glasses with Nina and Ava. He asks Austin, what’s wrong? Does he have a problem with the toast?

As the doctor pokes at Curtis’s legs, TJ asks what he feels, but Curtis says he doesn’t feel a thing. He can’t feel anything. None of them seem surprised that he can’t feel his legs. Will somebody tell him what the hell is going on? He shouts, what’s going on?!

Diane walks into the hospital on the phone, and says she’s literally walking in the door… Don’t worry. She’ll find Sasha and take care of everything. Leaning on the counter, Robert says, everything? That’s a tall order, even for Killer Miller.

Sasha is wheeled out of the elevator, and Gladys says, she’s going to get better. She knows it doesn’t look like it, but she promises to do everything she can to get Sasha all the help she needs. Dr. Montague comes out and says he knows how upsetting this must be for Gladys, but he’s here now. He asks if Sasha remembers him. He’s Dr. Montague, and he’s here to help her. She says, help her? and he says, she’s not herself right now, but he promises she will be soon. He’ll make sure of that. He asks the officer to take Sasha to the exam room, and the officer leaves with Sasha. Gladys says, he never told her that Sasha would get this bad, but Montague says, her daughter-in-law is much worse off than she led him to believe. Gladys asks what he gave her. She hurt somebody. It’s lucky she didn’t kill him. And she’s in so much pain now. She never meant for Sasha to suffer… He says, shut up. They both know what she meant to happen. She did her part; now he’ll do his. He goes into the exam room, and closes the door. Gladys looks at Sasha through the window, and Montague closes the blinds.

Carly visits Drew in Pentenville, and says she knows she promised she wouldn’t visit so soon, but he says he’s glad she did. She says she knows he wanted to feel more settled, but she had to see him. She misses him so much. He says he misses her, and she says, here she is. He says, she looks so beautiful, even in a place like this, and she says, she talked to Sam. Scout’s determined to visit him ASAP. He says, she knows how Scout is when she sets her mind to something; you can’t change it. The last time he was locked in a cell, he etched her name in the wall, and that’s what kept him alive, but now he has so much more to live for. She says, this place is better than Crete, right? and he flashes back to Cyrus giving him a Bible with a screwdriver in it. Carly asks, what’s wrong?

At the pool, Dex tells Josslyn, other people were at the pool when the shooting happened. Anna Devane for one, and the police are even certain Curtis wasn’t the target. She says she’s certain. Curtis was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The bullet was meant for Sonny. It could have been Dex. He says, no, but she says, he already got shot working for Sonny. What’s to say it won’t happen again? He says, because now he has more to live for. He’s never loved anyone as much as he loves her. He’s not going to give that up. They kiss.

TJ says, Curtis has every right to be concerned, and Portia says, TJ is right, but he doesn’t want to put too much stress on himself right now. That’s going to make it… Curtis says, stop. He can’t feel his legs. He needs them to stop talking to him like family. They’re doctors and he’s a patient. Why can’t he feel his legs? Dr. Barnsdall says he understands why Curtis is so concerned, but he’s just come through very extensive spinal surgery. Curtis is lucky to be alive. The bullet fragments he removed were lodged very close to Curtis’s spine. He was under very heavy sedation during the procedure. Every patient’s body reacts differently when that wears off. Curtis says, so the anesthesia is why he can’t feel his legs? and the doctor says, that’s one of the possibilities. Curtis says, cut it to him straight. What are the other possibilities? Dr. Barnsdall says he still needs to look at some of the other tests and scans they took after the surgery, and then he’ll better be able to answer some of Curtis’s questions. He’ll leave Curtis with his family now. The doctor leaves with the nurse, and TJ asks if Curtis heard what Dr. Barnsdall said. Very few people would have even survived that surgery. Portia says, if Aunt Stella were here, she thinks Stella would call it a miracle, and Curtis says, a miracle.

Diane tells Robert that she’s here to see her client Sasha Gilmore. Yes, she knows Sasha was recently represented by Martin Grey, but he asked her to take over when he was called away. He asks if Martin is going to be back, and she says, he is, but Maxie felt Sasha needed… He says, a killer shark, but she says, compassion and complete dedication. She will take care of everything. She knows why he’s here, and no, he won’t interrogate her client in her current state.

Gladys tells the guard that her daughter-in-law is not a criminal. He saw how gentle she was. She just needs a little psychological help, that’s all. He looks straight ahead like a guard at Buckingham Palace, and she says, oh God, and walks away.

Sasha says she knows he’s Dr. Montague, and he says, very good. Does she know why she’s here? She says, for more of those pills he gave her? but he says, no. Those pills would have helped her, but he warned her not to take too many. She says she only took three pills a day like he told her, and as he prepares a syringe, she notices blood on her clothes. He says, soon, all of her questions will be answered, and she sees the syringe. She asks, what’s that? No. He gives her the shot.

Austin says he really respects Sonny. Sonny is a powerful man and puts such a high value on family. Sonny says, nothing more important than family, and Austin says, absolutely. Let him try to put Sonny’s mind at ease. He hasn’t spent a lot of time with Avery, but the little time he’s spent with her, she’s lovely. He thinks she looks at him and sees him as not just her mom’s friend, but maybe her friend as well. Sonny says, Avery sees the good in everybody, and Austin says, that’s wonderful. He wonders if she got that from Ava, or is it a trait she inherited from Sonny? Sonny says he always gives people another chance, and Austin says, just the one? What happens when people disappoint him? Sonny asks, what happens when Austin loses a patient? and Austin says he thinks he can speak for every doctor in the world when he says, it’s hard to lose a patient. Sonny says, you’ve just got to move forward. It’s sad, but some people are beyond helping. You’ve just got to move on.

Portia says, please talk to them, and Curtis says he understands what the doctor was saying. He’s lucky to be alive, and he’s grateful for everything everyone at the hospital has done for him. But he wants to walk out of the hospital on his own, and that’s not going to happen. TJ tells him, that’s not what Dr. Barnsdall said, and Curtis says, yet. Portia says, no one can walk right after spinal surgery, and TJ says, Portia’s right. People going through the same kind of surgery, it can take weeks before they can walk. Curtis asks, how long before they can feel their legs again? when TJ gets paged, and Curtis tells him to go. He knows TJ has a job to do. TJ says he’ll be back as soon as he can, and leaves. Portia takes Curtis’s hand, and says, it’s going to be okay, and he says, yes, it will. As soon as he gets his life back. All of it.

Robert says he takes no pleasure in Sasha’s current predicament, but Cody Bell’s the real victim here, and Diane says, come on. They both know there was no intent. Sasha never meant to hurt the guy. He says, she stabbed him with a paring knife, and Diane says, it’s well-documented that Sasha hasn’t been herself since losing her baby and her husband. And might she point out, Heather Webber killed Sasha’s husband and came perilously close to killing yours truly, so she would think he’d have more… He says he’s not there to persecute her client, and she says, good. Why is he here? He says, after Maxie spoke to her, she called her Uncle Robert. She says, so Maxie asked him to look out for Sasha to make sure she was treated fairly, and he says, who’d have thunk it? Her and him on the same team. They get into the elevator together, and bump shoulders.

Sasha scrubs at the blood, and says she can’t get this off, but Montague says, don’t worry about that. He sets up a recorder, and says, they’ll take care of that later. Now tell him what she remembers. She says, there was a pool, and he says, what happened at the pool? She says, Gladys was there… and he grabbed her by the wrist. She flashes back to seeing Cyrus grab Gladys, and tells Montague, she saw him. He tried to ruin her life. He gave her drugs. Montague asks who she thinks she saw at the pool, and she says she knows she saw him. He grabbed Gladys and she knew she had to stop him. She had to stop Cyrus Renault.

Carly says she doesn’t understand. Cyrus is a murderer. She assumed Drew would be separated from people like him. Where did Drew run into him? Drew says, Cyrus found him. Cyrus wants to make him a fisher of men. She says, Cyrus Renault? and he says, what good is a messiah complex without disciples he’s recruiting? She asks if he told Cyrus to go to hell. Better yet, he has to tell the guards. They don’t know what kind of sick game Cyrus is playing, but Drew has to stay away from him. Drew doesn’t want to get on his bad side. He says she doesn’t have to worry about him, but she says, he just told her some maniac has him in their sights, and he doesn’t want her worrying about him? He says he’s got this; he can take care of himself. Cyrus knows not to make a move on him. She says she knows all the training he’s had, but he doesn’t know how many men Cyrus has under his control. He can’t fight everyone. He says, it’s okay, but she says, it’s not okay. He says, it’s taken care of, and she says, how, and by whom? He says, her ex-husband.

Ava says, Sonny is incorrigible, and tells Austin that his bark is far worse than his bite. Sonny says, the doctor knows he was joking, right? and they all laugh. Austin’s phone rings, and he asks them to excuse him. Sonny asks if there’s a problem, but Austin says, occupational hazard. He’ll be right back. He leaves, and Ava says, all right. Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Austin is awkward, but very nice and there’s some kind of chemistry there, but as a couple, she doesn’t really see it. I’m glad she said it, since I’ve been thinking it.

Outside on the phone, Austin tells someone, you could say that. It was super awkward. A lunatic walks into a restaurant and he’s with Sonny Corinthos. Not great. He guesses the question is, what’s Mason going to do about it?

TJ asks if Dr. Barnsdall reviewed all of Curtis’s latest test results, and the doctor says he did, and the final scans they took after Curtis’s surgery. TJ says, will his uncle ever be able to walk again?

Carly says, Sonny has people watching Drew’s back, and Drew says, she doesn’t sound completely surprised. She says, vintage Sonny, and Drew says, to protect him? She says, Sonny knows he’s a good guy, and deep down he knows Drew is good for her. She and Sonny will always be family, and at the end of the day, nothing’s more important to Sonny than family. He asks if this is Sonny’s way of welcoming him into the family, and she laughs, saying, she wouldn’t go that far. She just wants him to come home. Nothing’s more important. He says he’s working on it. So what else is going on? She says, Willow came home, and he says, that’s great. She says, the only reason Willow is okay is because he rescued Liesl. The only reason Willow’s okay is because of him. He says he’s just happy she’s home where she belongs. Are they planning a big party at the house for her already?… What’s going on? Carly says, nothing, but he says he knows her. He loves her. Tell him what it is.

Portia says, what Curtis needs right now is rest, and she’ll be right back. He doesn’t let go of her hand, and says, what he needs is her here. He also needs to tell her something before the doctor gets back. She says, they’ll have plenty of time to talk later, but he says, she’s wrong. Time is the one thing we’re never sure we have. When he came to find her at the pool, he’d just had a conversation with Sam, and she said something he didn’t think was important at the time. And now, he can’t forget it. Portia asks what she said, and he tells her, she said, you never have enough time with the people you love, and she’s right. He realized how much time he was wasting and came to find her. He’s not sorry he went to the pool looking for her, but he’s sorry he didn’t get to say what he wanted to say.

Robert and Diane come out of the elevator, and Gladys says, her daughter-in-law is in no condition to be hounded by lawyers right now. Diane says, Gladys might be Sasha’s guardian, but she’s not Sasha’s gatekeeper. She’s assuming Sasha is in the exam room. Gladys says, she’s getting the treatment she needs from her shrink, and Robert says, he’ll handle this. He goes over to the guard, and Gladys says she’s sure Diane means well, but Sasha is in pretty bad shape. If Diane makes her more upset, she swears she’ll… Diane asks, what will she do? Word to the wise; never, ever threaten her. Robert tells Diane, ten minutes max, and Diane asks Gladys to excuse her.

Sasha says, he was going to hurt Gladys like he hurt her, and she couldn’t let that happen. So she saw the knife, and… Diane walks in, and says, Sasha, stop right there. Not one more word. And you – she looks at Montague – turn off that recording device right now. He grabs it and shuts it off.

Ava says, she and Austin have only had a few dates. Of course (🍷) Nina doesn’t see them as a couple. Nina says, on the plus side, he’s nothing like Nikolas, and Ava says, that’s for sure. He is very… Nina says, alive, and Ava says, what? Nina says, don’t get her wrong. Ava and Nikolas had some connection and chemistry, but Nikolas always seemed like he was brooding. He was always serious all the time to her. At least Austin is mysteriously… expressive. Ava says, he’s definitely more alive, and Sonny says, he’s very attentive to his patients, because earlier, that guy Gordon was hostile. Austin could have blown him off, but he took the time to deal with the problem. Nina asks, what happened when Sonny went out after him? and Sonny says he’s pretty sure that Austin’s patient understands the situation. Austin comes back, and Ava says, Sonny was just complementing his bedside manner. Sonny’s phone rings, and he tells Gladys that he’s in the middle of something. Gladys says, it’s Sasha. She’s been arrested. Sonny asks, what the hell for? and Gladys says, she’s getting a psyche evaluation at GH right now. Sonny says he’ll be right there, and Nina asks, what’s going on? He says, Sasha’s in trouble. He has to go to GH. Nina says she’s going with him, and tells Ava and Austin that she’s so sorry. Ava says, no, go, and Sonny and Nina leave. Ava says, disaster averted, for now, and eats her martini olives off the stirrer.

Josslyn puts suntan lotion (I think… I hope) on Dex, when his phone rings. She says, don’t answer it, but he says, she knows he has to. Sonny says he knows it’s Dex’s day off. Something came up. Dex asks what he needs and Sonny says, surveillance. Port Charles Grill. Austin Gatlin-Holt.

Portia says she loves the sentiment, she really does, but is Curtis saying if he hadn’t spoken to Sam, he wouldn’t… He says, it’s done. They’re here. And what he wants her to know right now is, whatever happens, his feelings for her won’t change. And once he’s back on his feet… She says, and he will be, but she needs him to listen to his doctors… and his wife. She just wants him to relax and let his body heal as long as possible. He says he’s feeling stronger by the minute, and she says, good. That’s what she likes to hear. She has to check on a patient really quickly, but she promises she’ll be right back. She leaves, and cries in the hallway. Curtis pinches his leg, and sighs.

Dr. Barnsdall shows TJ his tablet, and says, they were successful in removing the bullet and every fragment. TJ says, Dr. Barnsdall always does good work, but was it enough?

Carly says, there’s nothing for Drew to worry about, but he says, something is going on. Is it the financial penalty from the SEC? She says she can handle it. She doesn’t want him to even think about it. He says he doesn’t want her thinking about it. That was a huge fine. He doesn’t want this weighing her down along with everything else. It’s really simple. He can sell Aurora. She says, no, he can’t. Diane made it crystal clear that she can’t accept anything from him, Michael, or Sonny. She could be hit with an even bigger fine, or worse. He says, Diane knows what she’s talking about. Did she come up with a Plan B? Carly says, she did, and Diane told her it’s going to take a while, but it doesn’t matter because she has resources. He says, tell him she’s not selling the house, and she says, the house is too big for them. He says, it’s not just the house, it’s the moss bowl’s🎍 her home, and she says, the home she had with Sonny. She has a lot of great memories of the kids growing up there, but those memories aren’t going away because she sells the house. She wants to focus on the future, and getting him out of here and sharing that future with him. No piece of real estate is going to change that. Life is too fragile to wait around. You think you have everything under control, and think the people you love are safe, then just like that… He says, what happened?

Dex puts his shirt on, and Josslyn asks if he really has to go. It’s his day off. What could be so important? He says, it’s no big deal. Nothing dangerous. Just a little surveillance. He kisses her, and she says, if it’s not important, why can’t they go back to his place right now? and he says, it’s not that he doesn’t want that. He made a choice when he decided to work for Sonny. She says she thought she was the choice he made, and he says, the best ever; the most important ever. But now he needs to go to work, and she – he takes a book out of their beach bag – needs to finish that mystery. The minute this job is done, he promises… She kisses him, and he says he promises. I gotta say it. I think she’s too immature for him.

Austin says he can’t tell. Did Sonny think he was okay, or does Sonny hate him? Ava shrugs and says she doesn’t know, but when he decides, believe her, Austin will know. He asks how she thinks it went, but she says she doesn’t know. Sonny plays things so close to the vest, but when it comes to Avery, he’s not going to take any chances. Austin says, Sonny has nothing to worry about with him and Avery. He loves kids. Ava says, that’s good, because Sonny said something he really meant; family is everything. He lives by that. Austin asks if he’s like that with all her lovers.

Gladys thanks Sonny for coming, and Sonny asks Robert, where’s Sasha? Robert says, she’s in there, indicating the exam room. Diane’s with her.

Montague says, how dare Diane barge in here and interrupt while he’s evaluating a patient. Get out! Diane says she’s not going anywhere. She’s Diane Miller, and she’s Sasha’s attorney. And that trumps his title any day of the week, and don’t turn that recorder on again. She gently asks if Sasha remembers her, and Sasha says, Diane. Diane says she’s Sasha’s attorney. She helped Sasha once before, and she’s going to help her again. Sasha tells her, Dr. Montague said… but Diane says, no. She doesn’t need to pay any attention to Dr. Montague. Just look right at her and she doesn’t say one more word. Montague says, unfortunately, Diane is a little too late. Sasha already told him more than enough.

Nina tells Gladys, this doesn’t make any sense. Why would Sasha stab Cody Bell? Gladys says, it was obvious she wasn’t herself. She would never hurt anyone. Something made her do it. Sonny says, like what? What made her do it?

Alone in the office, TJ yells, dammit! and pounds the desk with his fist. Portia walks in and says, no. He walks over to her, and she tells him, please don’t say it. She cries as he hugs her.

Gladys says she’s not a shrink. How would she know what’s wrong with Sasha? First there was the shoplifting, now she stabs Cody? Nina’s own journalist was there; she saw the whole thing. Nina says she talked to Alyse. She said it came out of nowhere. It doesn’t make any sense. When she was on Home & Heart, and someone did that horrible mind game on her, she handled it. Sonny says he saw her a few weeks ago and told her that she was ready to be on her own; to end Gladys’s guardianship. What changed?

Montague and Diane step away from Sasha, and he says, the police brought Miss Gilmore in for a psyche evaluation. As her lawyer, he’s sure Diane knows what that entails, what his responsibilities are. He’s sorry, but at this point, his hands are tied.

Robert tells Gladys, Sonny, and Nina that he just got off a call from Judge Palmer… Diane joins them and says, please, let her tell them. Sasha needs help. She’s being sent to Ferncliff Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Oh yeah, Ferncliff. We haven’t seen that place for a while.

Ava says she needs to make something very clear, she and Austin aren’t a couple, and they’re definitely not lovers. He says, what happened at Windymere… She says, means nothing. They’re nothing. She had a little moment of weakness. She’s regretted it ever since. He says he’s only regretted they haven’t done it again, and she says, he has an inflated opinion – he rubs her leg under the table – of his sexual prowess. And she assumes as a doctor – she picks up her knife – he has a need for that hand creeping up her thigh. He says, she wouldn’t, and she just looks at him. He removes his hand, and says, she didn’t answer his question. Sonny is a jealous guy? She says, Sonny doesn’t care who she sleeps with, as long as it doesn’t negatively impact Avery. He says, good to know. He assumes she sang his praises when he was away from the table, and she says, what praises might those be? His gymnastics in bed. He says, thank you, and she says, his willingness to help bury dead husbands? She told Sonny as little as possible about him; only what she thought he’d actually believe. He says, then how come he didn’t buy it?

Drew asks, what happened? and Carly says, Curtis was shot. Drew says, is he… She says, no. He’s in the hospital. He asks, how bad was it? and she says, it was touch and go. She heard this morning he’s out of surgery, he’s in recovery, but she doesn’t know his condition. Drew says, who shot him? and she says, they don’t know. It was at the MetroCourt pool. He asks if anyone else was hurt, and she says, no, luckily. He says he doesn’t get it. Who would want to kill Curtis? She says, the PCPD isn’t sure he was the target.

Curtis unsuccessfully tries to move his legs. In the hallway, Portia wipes the tears from her cheeks and puts on a smile. She goes into his room, and says, told him that she wouldn’t be long. He says he’s glad she’s back. Could she make sure they schedule a therapy session for him as soon as possible? She says, it’s way too soon for something like that, but he says, it’s never too soon. He’s not going to sit here in this bed and wait for another miracle. He knows it’s going to take hard work, but he’s here for it. Because no matter what it takes, he’s going to walk and stand up on his own two legs. Who knows? Someday, he might take her in his arms and they can dance the night away again. What does she think about that? She says she absolutely loves it. There’s something she wants to tell him. He asks, what’s wrong? and she says, Dr. Barnsdall got the latest tests and scans back and he consulted with three other surgeons, and none of them think he’ll be able to walk again.

Carly says she’s sorry. As soon as she gets any information about Curtis, she’ll get it to Drew. He thanks her, and says, she told him Portia was with Curtis. Does she know who else was out there? She says, his attorney Zeke, Jordan Ashford… Dante, Anna, and Sonny. He says, Curtis is such a good man. They’d better find out who did this. A guard says, time’s up, and Carly says she’ll come back as soon as she can. Seeing him makes everything better. He says he loves her, and she says she loves him, and leaves after taking a last look.

Portia says, doctors have been wrong before, and this isn’t a death sentence. They almost lost him for good, and Dr. Barnsdall said there’s no reason he can’t live an absolutely… Curtis says, stop. Just stop. She says, but they all love him. No matter what. He says he needs some time, and she says, of course (🍷). Of course (🍷) he does. He says, alone, and she says she understands. She leaves, and stands in the hallway crying, when TJ sees her. In his room, Curtis looks lonely.

Josslyn reads her book, when her phone rings. She says, hello?… This is Josslyn Jax. Who’s this?… Excuse me?… What are you talking about?

Ava says, Sonny rarely makes snap judgements, but when he does, look out, and Austin says, so she doesn’t think Sonny’s judged him yet. She says, probably not, but she thinks she managed to convince him that he has nothing to worry about with Austin spending time around Avery. Austin says, he’s not the only one who can read people. And he gets the distinct feeling Sonny is on to them. Dex listens from the bar.

Cyrus sits on a couch reading, and looks up to see Drew.

Sasha is wheeled out, and Nina says, it’s horrible. Diane promises Nina that she’ll fight this tooth and nail. Gladys says, she’s going to a good place, right? and Montague says, that’s exactly where her daughter-in-law should be. She’ll get all the help she needs. Isn’t that what they all want? He gets in the elevator, and Sonny asks the guard for a moment. He asks if Sasha can hear him. He knows she’s in there. Listen to him. She’s not alone. Does she understand? She’s not alone. She thanks him, and the guard wheels her into the elevator.

On Monday, Carly tells Josslyn that she’s been entrusted with their family institution; Austin tells someone that everything will be okay; and Sonny tells Dex, stay with him. See what he can find out.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase tells Sasha that she’s under arrest, and she asks if it’s a joke. He says, it’s not, and suggests they step outside, but she says she’s not going anywhere without an explanation. Michael says, that seems fair, and asks Chase, what’s going on? Chase says, Sasha left the store with this blouse and several other items she didn’t pay for.

Gladys admires herself in a faux fur coat in the dressing room mirror. Scout wanders in, and touches the coat. She says, this is pretty, and Gladys tells her, hey kid, it’s couture. Keep her hands to herself. Sam comes in and says, Gladys has a way with children, doesn’t she?

Cody says he can explain, but Selina says, he was marking cards. No explanation necessary. Cody says he swears he’ll pay her back, and she says, that’s a given. But by losing so dramatically, he damaged the reputation of her game. There’s a rhythm; you can’t win them all, nor can you lose them all. He guesses she’s never played with his cousin Barry, and she cracks him across the face. She says, he’s making jokes, and tells Li that she guesses it’s time Cody learned how humorless they are. Li grabs Cody.

At Kelly’s, Kristina looks at the Invader headline: Blood in the Water: Shots Fired at the MetroCourt. Alexis joins her, and asks if she’s talked to Molly. Kristina says she’s going to the hospital after this, and Alexis says, with everything they’re going through, now Curtis gets shot. TJ must be going out of his mind. Kristina says, it makes her want to help them even more. She’d really make the perfect surrogate for them. Alexis says she really appreciates how open and willing Kristina’s being… Kristina says, but she needs to wait to be asked first, and Alexis says, please. If Molly and TJ actually asked her to be their surrogate, would she say yes? Kristina says, yes, and Alexis asks if she’s sure. Is she really ready to have a baby? Kristina says, it’s not just a baby; it’s Molly’s baby. Molly’s her sister, and Kristina would do anything for her.

Marshall asks if Molly’s heard anything, and she says, if TJ could give them an update, he would. Stella wonders why it’s taking so long, and Portia says, this type of surgery could take hours. Stella says, all night? and Portia asks if Trina is cold. Trina says, a little, and Portia says she’ll get Trina a sweater from her office. Marshall says he can go, but Portia says she could use to stretch her legs. She leaves, and Marshall says, Portia might have the right idea. Molly asks if he wants to take a walk, and he tells her, lead the way. Stella sits with Trina, and says, she’s so strong, but Trina says she’s not feeling very strong right now, and Stella holds her.

Nina and Sonny arrive at the hospital, and Nina says she assumed Curtis would be out of surgery by now, but she guesses he’s not. Sonny tells her not to jump to conclusions. He’s going to ask the nurse for an update. He sees Molly, hugs her, and asks how she’s holding up. Marshall says he has to admit, he’s surprised to see Sonny here.

Portia picks up the sweater, then sits down in her empty office. She flashes back to Curtis asking her not to give up on them when they’re so close to finding their way back to each other, and her saying she wishes it was that simple, then leaving. She says, please Curtis, give us a chance to make it right.

We see Curtis in surgery, while TJ watches from the sidelines.

Sasha says she’s allowed to take those clothes, and Chase says, without paying for them? She says, yes. Deception has an agreement with Logan’s. It’s basically free advertising for the store. He says, the manager didn’t know about it, so why doesn’t she just come down to the station, and if what she’s saying is true – she says, it is – then it will just take a few minutes to sort out. Besides, they should probably let Willow get some rest. Sasha says, fine, for Willow’s sake. Let’s get this over with. She leaves, and Chase follows her out. Willow says, call Gladys, but Michael says he’s already on it.

Gladys tells Scout that she’s sorry if she was snippy. It’s just that it’s a very expensive coat. Scout says she knows, and Sam asks, how? Scout says she saw the price tag, when a call comes in on Glady’s phone from Sonny’s Kid. Gladys says, mother/daughter shopping trip? and Sam says, they’re picking out a dress for Scout for swim camp. Gladys says, don’t tell her that they swim in dresses now, but Sam says, it’s for a dance the kids put on. What about her? Special occasion? Gladys says, no. She just thought she’d treat herself. Sam says she’s glad they ran into each other. She’s been meaning to ask Gladys something. She tells Scout to try the clothes on in the dressing room, and Scout leaves. Gladys wonders what Sam wanted to ask her, and Sam says, how is her new BFF Selina Wu?

Li smushes Cody’s head against the bar, and Selina says, it’s not only that he cheated. To a certain extent, she expects that. He’s done it before, so they’ve been keeping an eye on him. He mumbles that he’s impressed, and she says, white ink? Child’s play. What she didn’t expect and what she won’t tolerate is that he lied to her, and even worse, that he thought she wouldn’t notice. He says, confession time? and she says, better late than never. He says he made sure the house lost so she’d think he was no longer valuable to her operation, and she asks, why? He says, honestly? He just wants to move on from the game. It’s nothing personal. He’s no good at doing anything for too long. He gets restless. She says she has news for him. Her employees do not come and go as they please. Once you’re in, you’re in. Is she making herself clear? He gives her an okay sign.

Sonny asks how Marshall is, shaking his hand, and Marshall says he’s been better. Nina asks if they’ve heard from TJ, and Molly says, not yet, but TJ has always said Curtis’s surgeon is the best in the country. Marshall says, thank God for that, and Sonny says, if his family needs anything, they’re here. Marshall says, first and foremost, for Curtis to pull through. Then some answers would be nice. Who would do this to his son?

Trina tells Stella that she just hates that she was holding Curtis at arm’s length. She was angry and confused… Stella says, and rightly so. She still has time. Trina says, Stella doesn’t know that, but Stella says she does. She knows Curtis, and she knows her nephew will fight to get back to Trina. Just like he’s fighting to get back to Portia. Portia stands behind her holding the sweater.

In the OR, the surgeon says, that’s the last of the bullet fragments, putting them into a bowl. Vertebrae looks good, but he doesn’t like that heartrate. Close him up before it climbs up any higher. Curtis suddenly flatlines, and the doctor says, they have to turn him on his back.

Curtis wakes up on a blanket in the grass, and a woman’s voice says, Curtis Ashford, did you eat all the potato salad? Again? Next time, she’s going to put a padlock on the container. He sees a woman sitting next to him, who looks like an older Jennifer Hudson, and says, mom?

Marshall tells Sonny that he’s sorry. Whoever shot his son last night isn’t Sonny’s responsibility. He shouldn’t have laid that at Sonny’s feet. Sonny says, don’t worry about it. He doesn’t know who the shooter is yet, but he’s not going to rest until he finds out.

Stella helps put the sweater around Trina’s shoulders, and Portia asks if Trina wants to talk about it at all, but she says she’s fine. Portia says, really? Because she’s not. Stella says, me neither. This waiting is fraying on her nerves. Trina says she was just so worried that she wasted all that time; that she didn’t resolve things before. Portia says she knows, and holds Trina, as Nina and Molly join them.

Alexis says she really appreciates Kristina’s willingness to help her sister out, and Kristina says, but… Alexis says, not only does surrogacy a huge deal, so is getting pregnant. Kristina’s never been pregnant before. does she have any idea what it’s like having a baby? Kristina says she’ll figure it out. She’s young and healthy and single, and don’t Molly and TJ deserve to be parents? Alexis says, of course (🍷) they do, and Kristina says, so if they decide to move forward with surrogacy, then isn’t it best if they go with someone who’s already prepared and ready to go? Alexis says she doesn’t know that anyone is truly prepared to be a surrogate. It’s not just a physical thing, it’s an emotional… Maxie comes up to their table and says she’s sorry to interrupt. She heard Alexis was trying to reach her. Alexis says she was. The Invader would like to do a feature on The Deceptor. Maxie says, great. What’s the angle? Alexis says, it’s in the leisure section. It’s an interest in the design process. Maxie says, then she’ll probably want to talk to a product manager or someone in marketing, and Alexis says she’ll have her assistant call Maxie’s office. Maxie thanks her, and starts to leave, but Kristina says she has a couple of questions. Maxie says, about The Deceptor? but Kristina says, no, about surrogacy. Wow. That whole conversation for no reason other than to get to Kristina’s question.

Gladys says, Selina Wu’s not her BFF, and tells Sam to get her facts straight. Sam says, that’s pretty interesting, because according to Spinelli, she and Selina were seen at the MetroCourt all cozied up… Wait, no. It was actually Gladys, Selina, and Cody Bell. That’s an interesting trio, doesn’t she think? Since Gladys did accuse him of larceny. (Who uses that word?) Gladys says, a misunderstanding, and Sam says, they put him in handcuffs. Gladys says, then isn’t he lucky to have a friend like her to bail him out? Sam says, Gladys hasn’t answered her question. How does she know Selina? Gladys says she’s bumped into Selina at The Savoy a time or two. Should she get the red one or the black one? She compares coats, and Sam says, and what about Cody? What is his relationship with Selina? Gladys says, Sam will have to ask Cody, and Sam laughs. She says, either Gladys can tell her what’s going on with the three of them, or she’s going to figure it out for herself. There’s obviously something. One word from Selina, and Gladys changes her story about Cody stealing her bracelet? What does that woman have on her?

Nina asks if there are any updates on Curtis, but Stella says, nothing yet. Portia says, Curtis would be so glad to know Nina is here, and Trina hopes he feels their support. Molly says, and all the strength and love they’re sending his way. Nina says, he’s very, very lucky to have such a close family, and Stella says, it’s at these moments they realize how truly important family is.

They do chest compression and use the defibrillator on Curtis.

Curtis says he doesn’t understand, and Irene asks if he’s still hungry. She made biscuits, and there’s blueberry pie for dessert. There’s a whole picnic set-up on the blanket now, and he says he remembers this blanket. Does it still have the… She says, the hole that he burned in it when he was playing with matches? Sure does. He says, it was Tommy’s idea, and she says, blaming his brother, just like always. He heaves a tearful sigh, and she asks if he’s all right. Does he feel sick? She feels his forehead, and he says, just fine. A tear rolls down his cheek, and she asks if he’s sure. He takes her hand and says, mom, is this really happening? Are you really with me right now? She says, where else would she be? and he kisses her hand. It reminds me a little of that scene in Our Town when Emily gets to relive her 12th birthday.

Irene says, it’s a beautiful day, and Curtis says, it’s just magical. She says, when they’re done here, would he mind taking a look at her car? He asks, what’s wrong with her car? and she says, the check engine light’s on again. He says he doesn’t understand why she won’t take her car to the garage, and she says, what does she need with a garage when she’s got two strapping sons? Tommy’s working on it now, but she thinks he needs a little help. He says, Tommy’s here? and she says, in the parking lot. Go help his brother. He gets up, and the doctor says, we’re losing him. TJ says, stay with us, Uncle Curtis, and Curtis asks if Irene heard that. She says, hear what?

Stella tells Nina, whatever Tommy did, Curtis had to do it too. It continued when they were older. When Tommy learned to ride a bike, Curtis was determined to learn too. Tommy made Varsity; there was Curtis on JV. Portia says she didn’t realize Curtis was that competitive, and Stella says, that was part of it, but he was also very protective. He didn’t want to be far away in case his brother needed him. She thinks he was like that with all of them. All they had to do was call, and Curtis would come running. Trina says, he’s still like that today, and Portia says, he certainly is.

Sasha bounces around the interrogation room, and outside on the phone, Chase leaves a message for someone to call him back as soon as possible. It’s about Sasha.

Gladys asks if Sam is implying she’s done something wrong, and Sam says, she must have. There was no way she was going to let Cody off the hook; she was out for blood. So the only reason she can think of that Gladys backed off was to save her own skin. Scout asks what Sam thinks of the dresses, while Gladys sees she has two missed calls; one from Sonny’s Kid and one from Unknown. Sam tells Scout to try them on, and they’ll decide together. After listening to a voicemail, Gladys tells Sam, as much as she’s enjoyed being accosted, she has to run. Family emergency. Sam says she hopes everyone’s okay, and Gladys says, so does she. She stops at the door, and tells Sam to have her kid pick the white one. Pink’s not her color.

Maxie says, it’s not every day she gets asked about her surrogacy, and Kristina says, it was such a selfless thing Maxie did. She’d love to hear more about it. Alexis says, please don’t feel like she has to divulge anything personal, but Maxie says, there’s nothing not personal when it comes to surrogacy. Let her wrap her head around this first. Kristina says, of course (🍷), and Maxie says she’ll call Alexis and leaves. Kristina says, what?

Maxie’s phone rings, and she asks Chase, what’s up?… Sasha did what?… Okay, she’s on her way.

Kristina says, Alexis told her that she could never know what surrogacy was like, so isn’t asking someone who’s actually done it the next best thing? Alexis says, it was just a little insensitive, but Kristina tells her, Maxie said she’s fine with it. Alexis says, okay, and Kristina says she has to go to the hospital. She’ll see Alexis later. She leaves, and Alexis texts Sonny: Got a second? It’s about Kristina.

On the phone, Sonny thanks Brick, and says, keep him posted. Nina asks if Brick found out anything new about the shooting, when Sonny’s phone dings. He says, ugh, and Nina asks, what’s wrong? He says, Alexis wants him to come by. It’s about Kristina. She says, go, and he says he feels kind of weird… but she says she’ll stay here and call him if there’s any updates. She kisses him goodbye, and he leaves.

Sasha asks how long Chase is going to keep her here, and he says, Maxie’s on her way. He tried to track down Gladys, but he’s having trouble reaching her. He holds out his phone and says, she’s allowed one phone call. She should really contact a lawyer. She says, lawyers are for guilty people, and he tells her, be reasonable. She says, why, when something completely unreasonable is happening to her? She needs someone in her corner. Someone who understands what a colossal mess this is.

As Selina plays solitaire and Li roughs up Cody. Cody’s phone rings, and Cody says, mind if he gets that? Selina says she doesn’t, but Li would find it quite rude. Well, she must be going. Enjoy their afternoon. She thinks he’ll find Li is both creative and resourceful. Li takes a bar tool and starts to stab Cody’s hand with it, and Cody yells, wait! Selina says, he came into her game with his own agenda. There must be consequences. Cody says he has a proposition, and she asks what he could possibly have to offer. Li spins Cody around to face her, and he says, plenty, but she says, no one crosses her. Goodbye, Mr. Bell. Li drags Cody off.

Irene says, it’s probably Tommy swearing at the car. Curtis knows how his voice travels. TJ says, Uncle Curtis, you have to come back, and Curtis wonders if somebody just said his name. Irene says, it’s Tommy. He’s calling for Curtis. He needs Curtis’s help. Curtis says, it didn’t sound like Tommy. It’s like he recognizes the voice; he just can’t make it out. She puts her hand on his shoulder and says, come. Just be here. They’ll go see Tommy together. She takes his hand, and TJ says, come on, Uncle Curtis. Fight. Do it for Trina.

Nina says, Portia can tell her to buzz off if she wants to be alone, but is she doing okay? Portia says she just needed a minute. Everyone’s so scared, and they’re desperate for answers. Nina says, and she’s not? but Portia says she’s terrified. But the fortunate, or unfortunate, thing about it is, she knows the answers to some of those questions, and the surgery’s taking way too long. The longer they have him open, the longer the recovery… if there is a recovery. Nina says, there will be a recovery, and Portia says, it’s a bullet to the spine. The damage could not only be significant, it could be life-altering. Nina tells Portia that she wishes there was something she could do or say, and Portia thanks her but says, the only thing they can do is… wait.

Sasha says, that manager is trying to embarrass her, and Chase says, there’s something she needs to see. Gladys walks in, and runs to Sasha, hugging her. Sasha says, they’re accusing her of shoplifting, and Gladys asks, who is? Sasha says, Logan’s. It’s just like Home & Heart. They’re out to get her. Chase asks if he can show them something, and tells them, take a seat. He takes out a tablet, and says, this is the security footage from Logan’s. Sasha says, finally, something to prove she’s innocent, and they see a video of Sasha putting the garments to her face and smiling, then shoving them in her bag. Sasha says she doesn’t remember doing that. Why would she? It’s not like she can’t afford the clothes. Something is wrong here. Gladys says, she may not remember it, but she did it. That is Sasha, isn’t it?

Willow says, any word? but Michael says, Gladys didn’t answer. But Sasha’s with Chase. He’s sure Chase is taking good care of her. Willow says she thought Sasha was acting strangely, and he says, Sasha’s been through a lot. She says, understatement, and he says, she’s been doing good lately, but there’s bound to be setbacks. Willow says she knows, but… shoplifting? and he says, maybe she didn’t realize she had clothes in her hands and walked out the door. He takes Willow’s hands and says, it’s going to be okay. She tells him, if you say so, and he tells her that he says so. She asks why he’s looking at her like that, and he says he still can’t believe she’s home. She says, there’s no place she’d rather be, and he says, uh-oh. He and Wiley have been planning a little trip. She says, rude, considering she can’t go anywhere yet, but he says, au contraire, mon cheri. If mademoiselle wouldn’t mind looking out the window… She looks out and sees Wiley wearing a moustache and dressed in a French outfit, including a beret. He holds up a sign that says, bonjour madame, and she asks Michael what they’re up to. He says, bienvenue à Paris.

Sam says, both dresses look absolutely beautiful on Scout, but hurry up and choose. She has to take her to swim class. Scout says she doesn’t really want to go, and Sam says she thought Scout loved going to swim class. Is this because daddy is the one who normally takes her? Scout says, and he picks her up, and Sam asks, what else does daddy do? Scout says, he asks how many laps she swam and how long she held her breath under water, and Sam says, that’s not fair. She wants to know those things too. She leads Scout to a chair, and they sit down. She says she knows Scout’s sad because daddy is gone, and it’s hard for both of them, but guess what? Daddy’s going to want to know how many laps she swam. So they’re going to write everything down. This way, when she goes to see daddy, she can tell him all about it. Sound good? Scout nods, and goes back to the dresses. She asks, which one? and Sam says she thinks Scout deserves both of them.

As Li hustles him toward the door, Cody says he can make Selina rich. She says, is that so? and he says he’s coming into some money. Actually, it’s a lot of money. She asked why he wanted out of the game. Really it’s to tie up some loose ends before he retires to the Cayman Islands. She says, so he lied, and he says he stayed quiet because he didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but now that he’s thinking about it, he feels he owes her a debt of gratitude. She asks where this money is coming from, and he says, the WSB. Li twists his arm, and Cody says he’s not an informant. The WSB took something from him, and they’re willing to pay through the nose to make it right. She says, took what? and he says, a family heirloom. The WSB is willing to cough up ten mill to make up for his pain and suffering. Would she like a cut?

Michael says, obviously, they’ll plan a real trip when she’s ready, but for now, he and Wiley decided to bring Paris to Willow. She thanks him, and he says, don’t thank him; her son was the mastermind. Look at him. Wiley holds a toy accordion, and lowering her voice, she says, please tell her that thing doesn’t actually make noise. Michael says, well… and Wiley pulls and pushes the accordion, making a dreadful sound. Michael tells her to picture it. Her and him, walking hand in hand on the Champs-Élysées. She laughs and says she can’t wait. She loves him too much. He says, too much? There’s no such thing.

Cody says, some of it can be hers, and Selina says, define some. He says, 50/50 split, and she says, 60/40. He says he has to pay some… Li twists his arm again… his attorney. She says, he’ll have plenty left over, and tells Li to let him go. Li releases him, and she says, they must also discuss how Cody will pay his debt from last night’s fiasco. Cody says he expected as much, and she says something to Li which I interpret as, come on, and they walk to the other side of the room. Cody picks up his phone, and listens to the voicemail from Sasha. He asks if he’s free to go, and Selina says, something wrong? He says, possibly, but it has nothing to do with her or her operation. She says, of course (🍷) he’s free to go. Because wherever that is, Li will always find him.

Gladys says she’s sure Maxie will take care of everything, when Maxie walks in. Sasha says she swears she didn’t do anything, and Maxie says she spoke to the store manager at Logan’s. She explained everything, and they’ve agreed to drop the charges. Sasha says, thank God, and Maxie says, they should be calling the station now. Chase leaves, and Sasha says she can’t thank Maxie enough. She honestly doesn’t know what happened. Maxie says, it’s okay, everything’s fine, and Sasha asks how she convinced them. Maxie says, as Sasha knows, they’re doing a cross-promotional event with The Deceptor… and Sasha says she’s sorry. Maxie says, it’s all right. It ended up working out well for the brand. Sasha says she’ll help out wherever she can, and Maxie says, actually, Logan’s would prefer if she and Lucy handled it. She hopes Sasha understands. Sasha says, of course (🍷). It makes sense. Gladys says, Sasha has been working so hard. She thinks Sasha’s earned a break, doesn’t she?

Sonny meets Alexis at Kelly’s and asks, what’s up with Kristina? Alexis says she was just wondering what his involvement is with Kristina’s foundation, and he says he’s been hands-off because he figured that’s what Kristina needs. Unless Alexis thinks otherwise. Alexis says, not that she would admit to this, but she thinks Kristina is a little overwhelmed, and he says he’s here for whatever Kristina needs. She says she was hoping he’d say that.

Kristina runs into the waiting area, and hugs Molly. She asks, how’s Curtis? and Molly says, they’re still waiting for news. She’s so glad Kristina is here.

Nina and Portia walk down the hall, and Portia says, things were already so complicated between them. And now… What if she doesn’t get the chance to tell him that she loves him. She cries, and Nina holds her.

Curtis says, Trina, and starts to walk toward the voice. Irene asks, who’s Trina? and he says, she’s his daughter. She says, he has a daughter? How wonderful. TJ says, Trina needs you, Uncle Curtis. So does Portia. Irene says, once he and Tommy fix the car, they’ll go home. She’ll make dinner. TJ says, you’re stronger than anyone I know. Fight. Irene says, then they can go for a walk through the neighborhood. They’ve missed him so much. He says he’s missed her too; more than she’ll ever know. She says, now they don’t have to. The family’s back together again. Come. They’ll go see Tommy together. She pulls on his hand, but he doesn’t move. He says he wants to, but why does he have the feeling if he leaves this park, he’ll never see Trina or Portia again?

Michael says, hungry? and Willow says, famished. Michael signals to Wiley and says, garçon. Wiley drapes a towel over his arm like a fancy waiter. Michael, now also wearing a beret, comes out with a tray, and says, we have ze… He’s not even going to attempt a French accent. They have quiche Lorraine and a lovely green salad, a crispy baguette, and the Frenchiest butter they could find. She says, c’est parfait, and he asks if that’s good. She says, very, and they kiss. Wiley is still too young to be horrified at seeing his parents kiss yet.

Alexis tells Sonny that Kristina has the passion and energy to make this shelter happen. She just thinks Kristina needs a little guidance. And for better or worse, she listens to him. He thanks her, and she says she’s thinking Kristina might actually receive some constructive feedback from him. He asks how come he feels there’s a lot more going on here, and she says, he probably feels that way because there is.

Gladys says, everyone makes mistakes. And one day in the not too far future, no one will remember this even happened. Maxie says, Gladys is right. Clean slate. Chase comes back and says, Maxie worked her magic. Logan’s is happy to drop the charges. Sasha thanks Maxie, who says, anytime. Hopefully, this is the only time. Gladys asks if Sasha is ready to go home, and Sasha says, yes. She’s exhausted. They file out, Maxie at the end, and Chase says, hey, keep an eye on her. Maxie says she was going to do that anyway.

Outside, Cody leaves a voicemail, saying, he’s sorry he missed Sasha’s call. Is she okay? Call him back when she gets this. Selina says, he forgot something, and holds up the bottle of ink. She hands it to him, and asks, is everything all right? He says, a friend needs his help, and she says, and we always take care of our friends, don’t we? brushing his face with her hand.

Someone is taking pictures. That someone is Sam. A hand comes down on her shoulder.

Irene says, Curtis isn’t going to stay with them, is he? He says he can’t. There’s too many people waiting for him. But he doesn’t want to say goodbye. She says, then don’t. Say until we meet again. He cries and says, until we meet again, and she says she’s so proud of him. Maybe if she’d been as strong as he is, maybe she would have met Trina. It’s time for him to go back. He hugs her and says, I love you mama, and she says she loves him too. It’s time. She lets go of his hands, steps back, and disappears.

TJ and the doctor come out, and everyone gets up. Portia asks, did Curtis make it through surgery?

Tomorrow, Dante says, it might not be as much of a dead end as Anna thinks; Sasha says she screwed up; and Sonny asks Alexis, what kind of trouble Kristina is headed for.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase and Brook come back from a run, and Brook says she was almost able to forget that her father doesn’t know who she is. He hugs her and says he’s sorry.

At the pool, Dex asks where Trina is, and Josslyn says, she’s getting them drinks. He asks if she’s worried about Drew, and she says, he can hold his own, but three years in Pentenville? It’s just wrong. Her mom told her to have fun today, but she can’t help feeling guilty about it. Trina comes back, and says, that’s how you feel when someone you love is going through something and you can’t help them.

Spencer asks if Laura would like him to take her to the airport, and she says, that’s sweet of him, but she has a driver and she’s going to be doing mayoral business up until she leaves. Esme asks if she’s only taking one suitcase, and Laura says she used to travel quite a bit, and got good at packing light. (Me too. It only takes one time of packing too heavy to learn.) Spencer asks if Laura doesn’t think the trip is too risky, and Esme says, he’s right. Besides, they need her here. Laura says she understands their concern, and she’s arranged for some back-up for them. They’ll see, but she feels quite confident the two of them will come together and work out their relationship… for Ace’s sake.

In the nook, Olivia tells Tracy that she made a mess of things last night. She realized coming home that she pushed Ned further away. Tracy says, none of them would have fared any better. She knows she wouldn’t have. Olivia asks if she really thinks so, and Tracy says, he thinks he’s Eddie Maine. None of them know how to deal with that. They have to just hope he comes to his senses soon.

Sonny asks how long Nina’s been up, and she says, an hour or so. He asks if she’s seen Ned, but she says, not yet. Should she check on him? He has a brain injury. Isn’t it a bad sign if someone with a concussion wants to sleep a lot? He says, doctors say rest is the best thing. He called Olivia to check in, and she gave him the run down. Maybe he’s going to wake up and remember his life. She says, here’s hoping, when Ned comes out, and asks if someone can tell him what he’s doing here. I kind of like the scruffy looking Ned.

Valentin runs into Anna’s house and asks if she’s all right. She says, of course (🍷) she’s all right. Why wouldn’t she be? He tells her, look for herself, and brings her outside. MURDERER is painted in red on her front door, and she says, what it lacks in subtlety, it certainly makes up for in style. It must have happened when she was asleep. He says, she didn’t hear anything? and she says, no, checking the door jam. She tells him, no sign of forced entry. They didn’t set the alarm off. Must be kids. He says, she thinks it’s kids? and she says, they probably read the article in the newspaper and knew where she lived. It’s just a prank. She goes back in, saying, she’s going to get something to clean it up. Just my two cents, but her story seems too sophisticated for kids to be pulling a prank over.

Ava tells Austin that she’s given it a lot of thought, and she’s changed her mind. She can’t get Pilar fired. He says, nannies come and go, right? Mason is a very impatient man. If he thinks they’re dragging their feet, he’s going to come up with some very creative ways to motivate them. Broken bones come to mind. She says, Mason’s not going to get any information at all if he incapacitates her, and Austin says, who says it’s her bones he’s going to break?

Spencer tells Laura that he’s sorry. He was up half the night. Esme says, Ace would settle down, or would seem to, then he’d be up crying again. Laura says, and they were both up with him? Why didn’t they trade off?… She sees. Because neither one of them trusts the other to take care of Ace. Spencer says he needs more coffee and goes to the kitchen. Esme yawns, and Laura says, they’ve talked about this. She doesn’t have to do absolutely everything for Ace. Esme says, she just understands what Ace needs better than Spencer does, and Laura says, good for her. Now she just has to let Spencer figure it out, so she can get some sleep. Spencer is very good with Ace. Esme says, she’s not wrong, and Laura says she thinks if Esme could bend just a little, Spencer could meet her halfway. There’s a knock at the door, and Laura opens it to Martin, who hugs her and asks how she is. She says, very good, and she’s about to close the door, but sees Lucy there. Laura invites her in, and Lucy says she hopes it’s not an imposition, but Marty told her that Laura was heading to Russia today. Martin says, so they’re here to see her off.

Brook says she’s so glad Chase is here to help her through this, and he says, if there’s anything she needs him to do, just ask. She asks him to come inside with her and get some water. She desperately needs to hydrate. They see Tracy in the nook, and Brook tells her that they went for a run. Tracy asks if someone is chasing them, and Chase says, funny. Tracy says, what is? and Brook asks if there’s any news about her dad, handing Chase a bottle of water.

Sonny says, Ned doesn’t remember Sonny bringing him here last night? and Ned says, of course (🍷) he does, but he didn’t get a good look around. When he woke up and saw that view… It’s amazing, man. Nice digs. Maybe one day when he’s on tour, he’ll be able to stay in a place like this. Sonny says he’s glad he was able to make Ned comfortable, and Ned says, it was luxurious. He thanks Sonny for letting him crash here, and Sonny says, anytime. Olivia is his friend. Ned says, about her. Don’t get him wrong, she seems like a nice lady – Sonny says, she is – but he had to get out of that club last night before he said something he regretted. He doesn’t know how to convince her that he can’t be who she wants him to be.

Ava says, if Mason lays one finger on Avery, she’ll kill him, and Austin says, she refuses to accept how ruthless Mason is; there’s no one who’s off limits. She says, fine. Does he have an idea of how they should get rid of Pilar? He says, they tell Sonny that she stole something, but Ava says, she wouldn’t, and Sonny wouldn’t believe it. Something else. Mason walks in, and says, good. They’re both here. Austin says, Mason called this meeting, so let’s get started, and Mason says, great idea. So what do they have for him?

Martin asks Laura how long the flight to Russia is, when Spencer comes back, and asks, what brings Port Charles most vivacious couple by? Laura says, Uncle Marty is the back-up she was talking about, and Martin says, he’s just here to help out while Doc and Laura are away in Russia… where Americans are advised to leave. Spencer says, that’s fantastic. They can certainly use all the help they can get. How is he with changing diapers? Martin says, he’ll be acting in a strictly advisory capacity in that regard. Someone to call in the middle of the night should trouble arise. Lucy says, and they can count on her. Although she’s not officially a member of the family, she’s a phone call away. Spencer tells Martin that he’s curious. Has Martin held a baby before? Laura tells Spencer, don’t be rude, and Lucy says, Martin happens to have many, many, many hidden talents. In fact, you’d think he’d know nothing about skincare, but he was instrumental… Martin says, hold on, and they start to bicker while Laura laughs. Martin says he doesn’t see Doc. Where is his newly minted brother-in-law? Laura says, he’s at the hospital wrapping a few things up. He’ll meet her at the airport. Lucy says, that means Spencer and Esme will really be by their lonesome. Doesn’t caring for a baby bring them together? Esme says, they both love Ace, and that’s the most important thing. Right, Spencer? Spencer says, that’s right.

Trina asks Dex how long he’s been in Port Charles, and he says, a little over a year. She asks where he was before, and he says, all over the place. He joined the army when he finished high school. He did a tour, and when he got discharged, he bounced around. He did a bunch of different jobs, then ended up being the substitute manager at Volonino’s. Trina says, Joss never said that. Is that where they met? Josslyn and Dex look at each other, and Trina says, obviously not. Dex says he met Joss while he was working, and Josslyn says, for Sonny. Dex says, there was a misunderstanding, but Josslyn says, no, there was no misunderstanding. Dex says, Joss threatened to call the cops on him, and Josslyn says she threatened to call the cops on Sonny. Dex was collateral damage, so she changed her mind. Trina says, lucky him, but Dex says, it wasn’t luck; it was Joss. He asked her to cut him a break and she did.

Tracy tells Brook, as far as anyone knows, Ned is still at Sonny’s. Olivia went over there under the pretext of taking him some clothes. Brook wonders if that was a good idea, and Tracy says, she also took him some dessert pasta. She’s just concerned Olivia is going to overdo it, and push him too hard and drive him further away. What are the odds? Brook asks why Tracy didn’t stop her, and Tracy says, because she’s Ned’s wife. She’s fighting for her husband, and if there’s a 1% chanced it’s going to work, who is she to stop her? She asks if Brook doesn’t think she should get changed. Even a business as slipshod as Deception can’t think that’s appropriate office attire. Brook says she took the day off, and Tracy asks why she’d do that. Chase says, because her father almost died and doesn’t recognize her anymore. Give her a break. She needs it. He tells Brook that he’s sorry, but he has to go. He has to work this afternoon. Tracy says, oh yeah, because he got his police badge – Brook says, detective shield – back. He must be so grateful he got to go back to a job he loves so much. He says he sure is, and Tracy says she doesn’t doubt it. Sometimes work is the best thing for us. She looks at Brook.

Nina opens the door to Olivia, and invites her in. Sonny hugs her and says, it’s good to see her. She says, it’s good to be seen, and Ned says he’ll be in his room. Olivia says, please stay. She’s so sorry about what happened at The Savoy last night. He says he’s sorry too, and she says she made him some ricotta ravioli… He likes it. Nina says, it looks delicious. Maybe they could have it for dinner. Olivia says, actually, it’s a dessert or a snack… but just eat it whenever. Nina says she’ll put it in the fridge for now, and Sonny follows her to the kitchen. Olivia asks if Ned slept okay, and he says he did. What about her? She says, not so much. She brought him some clothes. She hands him a bag, and he says, that’s very thoughtful of her. He’ll go change. He tries to take the bag, but she hangs onto it, and asks, just give her five minutes. Please.

Dex leaves for work, and Trina says, he and Josslyn look happy. Josslyn says, they are, and Trina asks if Josslyn is going to be okay with Dex working for Sonny. Josslyn says, no, but she knows the type of guy Dex really is, and Trina says, the type who works for Sonny. Josslyn says, there’s more to him, and Trina says she gets it. Josslyn sees a side of Dex no one else sees. Trina sees a side of Spencer that he usually keeps hidden. Josslyn says, anything specific? and Trina says, before Victor died, he falsified evidence that could put Esme in prison, and left it to Spencer in his will. Josslyn asks why Spencer hasn’t used it, and Trina says, because the evidence isn’t real? Josslyn says, so? Esme did commit those crimes. So what’s wrong with setting her up to make her pay for them?

Ava says, it’s only been five minutes since Mason last threatened them. He can’t possibly expect results already. Mason says, she’s Sonny’s baby mama. She can’t get him to talk? Ava says, come on. She and Sonny are not friends. She and Sonny have never been friends. Austin says, they have a great plan. They just need a little bit of time to execute it. Mason asks if he hasn’t made it clear that the information he needs is time sensitive, and Ava says, what information? Maybe if he told them what he was looking for, things would move a little faster. Mason says, anything on Pikeman. Shipping dates, manifests, anything. So quit stalling. Ava says, they’re working as quickly as they can, but Mason says he doesn’t think they are. He thinks two intelligent, capable people such as themselves could do anything they put their minds to. Maybe they just need a little more motivation. He reaches into his jacket pocket.

Tracy’s phone rings, and she steps outside to take it. Chase asks, what is up with her? and Brook thanks him again for coming at Tracy with that. She’s so glad there’s surveillance footage of her dad’s fall. Otherwise, it would be her word against Drew’s. He says, actually, that’s not true. Someone else witnessed Ned’s fall.

Olivia shows Ned a photo album, and says, here’s where they were saying their wedding vows… and here’s where he was singing at Leo’s birthday party… and this was Thanksgiving. He says, if it was Thanksgiving, why is there pizza? She says, he really doesn’t remember, huh? There’s always pizza at a Quartermaine Thanksgiving. He says he can see how happy everyone is in all these photos. They don’t mean anything to him; he’s sorry. She plops the album in his lap, and says, just look through. Pick a page, any page. You never know. Maybe something will ring a bell. He looks through the album, and says, hey. That’s him? We see a picture of young Ned as Eddie Maine.

Alone with Laura, Martin says, Russia? Chechnya? Laura says she knows the situation is volatile there. But Doc’s going to be there. Valentin will be there. Martin says, what could possibly go wrong? If Doc can’t make the Russians feel better about themselves, he’s sure Valentin can arrange for a group of mercenaries to exfiltrate her. She says, he’s an optimist after all, and he says, she brings out the hope in… Do him a favor. Take care of herself. He means it. He calls her baby sister, and kisses her cheek, telling her to come home to them.

Valentin takes photos of Anna’s door with his phone, and asks if she doesn’t think the police should see this. She says she’s not calling the police. It’s a prank. A juvenile act of vandalism. He says, this is not a prank. This is an attack, and for all they know, this is a warning shot. She says she thinks he’s overreacting, but he says he thinks she’s underreacting. So until she can face what is, he’s staying. He walks back inside, but she says, no. He’s going to Russia with Laura. He says, no, he’s not, but she says, he’s going. He says, they have a situation literally on her doorstep, and she says she can handle it on her own. Because if it’s kids, it’s nothing. He says, it’s not nothing, and it’s not kids, and she says, if it isn’t, she’ll handle that too. But Doc and Laura can’t handle Chechnya on their own. They need him there. He says he loves her, and he wants to protect her, and she says she loves him, and she loves that he wants to protect her. He says, and he likes worrying about her, even if she doesn’t need him, but she says she thinks she needs him more than she wants to need him. He says he’s listening, and she says she needs his voice. She really likes how he makes even the most mundane things sound very sexy. He sits on the steps, and says, go on. She sits next to him, and says she likes the way he says, breakfast is ready. He says, breakfast is ready, and she says, then along comes an English breakfast with everything ten times larger than it needs to be. He says, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and she laughs, saying, she loves his bad jokes. He says he’s never told a bad joke in his life, and she leans her head on his shoulder. She says she just needs him. She just wants to be where she can breathe, and she doesn’t have to watch her back because he’s watching it for her. He puts his arm around her, and she says, he understands the pain of past mistakes. He says he does. Is that what this is? She wants him to leave so she can atone for them? It seems like some sort of righteous punishment for her sins.

Mason holds up a plastic bag with a few hairs in it, and Ava squints at it, asking if those are supposed to be hers. He says, they are hers. She can keep that. There are plenty more on Nikolas’s body. Ava says, a few of her hairs on his jacket, that doesn’t mean anything, but he says, hairs and DNA. The cops know she was the last person to see Nikolas before he – air quotes – disappeared – end air quotes. It won’t take them long to come to the right conclusion; she murdered Nikolas. Austin says they understand the stakes, and they’ll get him something soon. He promises. Mason says he really hopes so, and leaves.

Trina says, Josslyn would really be okay giving the police false evidence to put Esme away? and Josslyn says, after everything that girl did to them? She’d want it in a heartbeat. Trina says, so she’s saying the ends justify the means? but Josslyn says, she’s saying, in this situation, sometimes the system needs a little help to get justice. And she thinks Spencer would feel the same way. Trina says, he did.

Spencer asks what Laura said to Esme, and she says, the same thing she wants to say to him. Ace needs both of them. He says he still thinks his brother would be far better off without Esme in the picture, and she says, he can think that all he wants, but it’s not going to happen. Esme and Ace are a package deal. He glances at the safe deposit box key on his keyring, and flashes back to telling Trina, no good will come of opening that box; and her asking if he really doesn’t want to know what that box is protecting his family from. He fingers the key, and Laura says, Esme is not going to disappear, no matter how much he may want her to.

Anna tells Valentin, when she came back last night, she was looking for some righteous retribution. Then Laura, and Robert, and Felicia came round and did their best to bolster her up. She did her best to be appropriately grateful and appropriately receptive. He says, otherwise, she couldn’t get rid of him fast enough, and she says then when they’d gone, she was left with that newspaper and that brutal headline. She started to think about her entire career; everything she’d ever done, the good and the bad. And all the people she’s loved, the people she’s saved, the people she betrayed. She realized that even with all of her past spread out across the newspapers, the world didn’t stop. He says he thinks she worked hard to make up for the time she spent working for the DVX, and she says she really tried to balance the scales. He says, she has, and she thanks him. She says she needs people like him around to remind her of that. She thinks she’s going to be fine, and if those vandals come back with their spray cans, she’s going to be here to show them exactly what she’s made of.

Ned looks at another old photo of him and… Lois? and he says he looks good. Sonny says, what about the girl next to him? Does he remember her? Ned says, it’s on the tip of his tongue, and Sonny says, her name was Lois. She’s their old friend from the neighborhood. She was actually his manager. Ned says, wow. He can’t place her. He guesses the bump on his head is to blame. He sees a third photo of himself as Eddie, and says he remembers this guitar. Olivia says, he remembers a guitar. He doesn’t remember his wife or his family, but he remembers a guitar? From the 90s? She laugh/cries, and Ned says he doesn’t mean to upset her any more than he has already. He puts down the album, says he’s sorry, and gets up. Sonny asks where he’s going, and Ned says he has to get out of here; get some air. He’s not a prisoner, is he? Sonny says, no, of course (🍷) not, and he leaves. Nina follows him, calling, Eddie! and Sonny hugs Olivia.

In the hallway, Ned says, Nina is the only one who calls him that, and she says, it’s his name, isn’t it? He says, yeah, but no one here wants to believe that, except her.

Brook asks if another witness came forward, but Chase says, she didn’t. Brook says, she who? and he says, Nina Reeves was there when Ned fell. You can see her plain as day on the security footage. She wonders, if Nina was there, why wouldn’t she say anything? and he says he doesn’t know, but it’s weird, right?

On the patio with the phone, Tracy asks, when has she been anything but focused? Of course (🍷) she knows how important this is… Do they want to criticize? Why don’t they come here and do it themselves, okay?… That’s what she thought. Let her remind them, that they’re partners. They are not her boss… Good. Now leave it to her. She’ll get the information on The Deceptor that they need. She promises.

Austin tells Ava, drugs. Family connection or not, Sonny wouldn’t like it if he thought Pilar was using drugs. Ava says she’s not planting drugs on Avery, and he says, they have to come up with something that’s going to work. Because if they don’t give Mason something, they’re going to… What is it? There’s a word. She says, die, and he says, yes, that’s what’s going to happen. His phone chirps, and he says, then what’s going to happen to her daughter? He takes his phone out of his pocket, and she says, fine. She’ll do it, after she spends time with her daughter.

Olivia tells Sonny, this was clearly a bust, but he’s given her a lot to think about. She’s going to go. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, yeah. Ned – she’s not calling him Eddie – says he wants space; she’ll give him space. She just wishes she wasn’t so terrified he was going to skip town.

Ned says, if anyone had to come after him, he’s glad it was Nina. She doesn’t pressure him like the other two. She says she’s really sorry this is happening to him, but no one should force him to be someone he’s not. He says, she’s right. That’s why he’s thinking it might be best for everyone if he left town.

Martin and Lucy sit at a table poolside, and Martin asks if they’re okay. Lucy wonders why he’d ask her that, and he says he’s getting the distinct impression that she’s upset about that discussion they had about marriage. She says, no, and he says he wants to believe her, but she’s not exactly acting like herself. She says she could say the exact same thing about him. Why would he shut her down when she was extoling his virtues? He says, they talked about this. Deception is her company. She can’t be out there saying he designed The Deceptor. She says, why not? She didn’t even bring up the pillow talk; there was no bedroom mentioned. He says, promise him that she won’t tell another soul that they even talked about The Deceptor. She says, okay, if that’s what he wants, and he thanks her.

Josslyn asks Trina if Victor left a note that said, this is the fake evidence that could get Esme convicted, and Trina says, no. Josslyn says, then Trina doesn’t know for a fact that the evidenced is fake, and Trina says, not for a fact. Josslyn says, then they have to tell Dante, but Trina says, they can’t do that. Spencer already destroyed the evidence. Josslyn says, really, and Trina asks what that’s supposed to mean.

Spencer asks if Laura really thinks she’s going to find his father, and she says, all she knows is, when Nikolas was hiding out… He says, when he was pretending he was dead for three years. He let the whole family believe it, and she says, yes, that time. It was Victor who gave Nikolas refuge in his house. Spencer says he was left the property in Chechnya in Victor’s will, and she says she may or may not find his father there, but even if she doesn’t, she may find a clue as to where he is or what he’s up to. He asks if she thinks it’s really worth all that effort, and she says, yes; he’s Spencer’s father. Spencer says he knows Esme manipulated him into trying to separate his father and Ava, and he takes full responsibility for the part he played in that. That being said, his father has done some unforgiveable things, and he doesn’t want to risk losing Laura on the off-chance Nikolas is in Chechnya. Esme stands in the doorway as Laura hugs Spencer and says, he’s not going to lose her. She thinks as he gets old, he’ll see that there are few things that are truly unforgivable. People can change, if you let them.

Brook and Chase kiss, when Tracy comes in and says, don’t they ever stop? Chase says, only when absolutely necessary, and leaves. Tracy says, now that he’s gone, doesn’t Brook think she should… Brook asks why she’s pushing so hard. What does she want from Deception, and why is it more important to her than her own son?

Olivia thanks Sonny, and says she can’t tell him how much it means. He tells her not to give up, and she asks who he’s talking to. This is family, and she’s going to fight like hell. His phone dings, and she says she’ll see herself out. She leaves, and finds Nina and Ned still in the hallway. She says, it’s okay. Don’t be scared. She’s leaving. Enjoy the ravioli. She tells Ned that if he ever wants to call her, Sonny has her number. Ned nods, and she jets. He says, that was brutal, and Nina says she’s sure the more he sees the Quartermaines, the easier it’s going to get, but until then, every time he runs into them it’s going to be tough, because there’s a lot of them. Ned says, this is why he loves life on the road. It’s all about the music. Being on stage. Making people happy. That’s where he’s alive. She says, it sounds amazing. She sometimes dreams about running away, being free. He says, as far as he’s concerned, there’s nothing keeping him here.

Lucy needs to powder her nose, and Martin says, a moment without her will be an eternity. Lucy leaves, and Josslyn tells Trina that she’s surprised Spencer decided to destroy the evidence. Trina tells her to fasten her seatbelt. Not only did Spencer destroy the evidence, he agreed with her when she said it would be wrong to use it. Josslyn says, Trina must be a really good influence on him.

On the phone in the hallway, Lucy says, meet her by the pool. She needs their help. Something is wrong with Martin. She peeks around the corner at him.

Laura says her driver is here, and Esme says she really wishes Laura wasn’t leaving. Laura hugs her, and says she knows Esme is scared, but she’s going to be just fine. Don’t be afraid to let people in. Esme says, all right, and Spencer says, if Laura must be going, he’ll walk her out, but Laura says she thinks she can manage that suitcase on her own. He says, be safe, or else he’s coming to Chechnya to find her. She says she loves him; he says he loves her too, and they hug. She tells him, be civil to Esme, and he says, she can count on him. He fingers the key again.

Anna says she hopes she convinced Valentin to go and help Laura. Forgive her if she’s projecting, but she thinks it’s important for him to do this. She thinks he needs to help her. He says he does, and she says, then go. Find Nikolas. Then come back here and find her. They kiss.

Tracy says, of course (🍷) nothing is more important than Brook’s father. As much as she hates to say it, there’s nothing they can do for him right now. Brook says, yes there is. They have to show him how much they love him; convince him that he’s better off with his family. Olivia comes in and tells Brook that she’s sorry. It’s not going to work. Her dad doesn’t think of them as family anymore. He thinks of them as really pushy strangers. Tracy says, she didn’t have any luck with him? and Olivia says she really thought looking at some pictures, going through the album might trigger something, but no. Nothing. Not even a glimmer. She just made him feel worse. Brook says, so now what? They’re not giving up on her dad. Olivia says, of course (🍷) they’re not giving up on her dad. She’s going to get her husband back. But they have to figure out a new tactic… just as soon as she figures out what that is. She leaves, and Tracy says, Brook heard her. He doesn’t want to see them. So? Brook says she guesses she’s going back to work, and Tracy smiles.

Nina runs in, and Sonny asks, where’s Ned? She says she’s so sorry. She couldn’t stop him. Ned’s gone.

Spencer sees Esme looking at him, and says, what? She tells him that she just wanted to say that she’s given it some thought, and she’s willing to work together if he is. For Ace. He says, for Ace.

There’s a knock at Sonny’s door, and Dex says, it’s him. Sonny tells him, come in, and Dex enters the apartment. Ned walks in after him.

Outside, Pilar calls to Ava, and runs toward her. Ava asks, what’s wrong? Where’s Avery? Pilar says, Avery is gone. She’s disappeared.  

Tomorrow, Drew asks Sam how they’re going to break this to their daughter; Tracy says, it’s a miscarriage of justice; Carly says, Josslyn thinks she made a mistake by not turning in Sonny; and Sonny says he’s going to make someone an offer they can’t refuse.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey – The Reunion – Part 3

I’m off to a good start, calling Teresa an idiot during the review of last week. Bitch boy is on the way.😐 = incomprehensible.

The dudes join the fray, and Andy promises us the intense conclusion of the Reunion. They talk Botox until the countdown, and Andy welcomes our Jersey men. Paulie says he’s in awe of the Irish castle, and Andy congratulates Louie and  Teresa on the wedding. He asks Louie’s first reaction to Teresa’s hair, and Louie says, wow. Andy says, same. Joe #2 says his heart is hammering, and Andy says, that’s ironic, because that’s what his sister said. He talks about the men’s calendar, saying they have it at the Watch What Happens Live studio, and it’s Frank’s month. Joe #2 says, Frank as the Easter Bunny made his life, and we flash back to the women asking Paulie’s mom if she thought the calendar was hot, and her saying, no. Jumping right in, Andy says, they’ll start with the PJs, and Louie says, that came out wrong. When Teresa was emptying the house, he took an old pair of sweats out of a bag of clothes, and wore them one night; in an endearing good way. It sounded creepy, but that’s not what happened.😐 He says he tried connecting with Joe #2 because he knew what Teresa wanted, and she didn’t want this. Joe says he wants to believe Louie, but whenever he gives Louie the benefit of the doubt, he gets screwed. All he wanted was a family, and after Teresa got back from prison, they were on the best terms. She was humble and they talked every day. Teresa says, because they were filming, and confuses everyone, including me. I saw Teresa and Juicy Joe Go To Prison, and that wasn’t part of it. Teresa and Joe #2 get argumentative. Teresa whines about them not taking her out, and Joe says, she was single and going out like crazy. Melissa concurs, and Teresa tells her, STFU. She’s talking to her brother. Andy looks so exhausted, I literally lol. Melissa says, five minutes ago, Teresa said she never wanted to see them again, and now Joe’s her brother. Teresa says, they dragged her through the mud for ten years, once again confusing everyone, since she was the one on Melissa from day one. Andy finally says, they’re not getting anywhere, and to stop. Teresa says she wants to speak to her brother, not Melissa, and Andy says, they’ve established that. Teresa tells Andy to shut up, and calls Melissa a gaslighting bitch. Alrighty then.

Andy suggests they talk about something else, and after some small talk about the toddler in Marge’s house and John being hazed, we take a look at the Real Househusbands of New Jersey. We go down Jersey Dude Memory Lane, proving once again that the guys are the ones who should have a show. Andy asks, who’s best at holding their booze? and Joe #2 says he is, but John begs to differ. A viewer says, Frank seems to be having a hard time letting Dolores go, and Frank stresses that there’s nothing beyond friendship and family. Dolores is one of his best friends, and their family dynamic isn’t orthodox. Andy says, speaking of unorthodox, is Frank still living with David? Frank says, he and Brittany just got their own house, and he and Paulie are in a great place. Paulie agrees 100%. A viewer asks if Bill feels guilty about ignoring his family, but Bill says, he’s missed games, but because of work, not because he was in the pool house. Jennifer says, he’s not always there; that’s just how it feels. Andy says, Bill looked miserable, but Bill says he’s not. He works hard to make his wife happy, and certain things had been ignored, but not on purpose. Things have improved. Andy asks when Paulie is going to make an honest woman of Dolores, and Paulie says, Dolores wants to take her time. Andy suggests he get a divorce first, and Paulie says, it’s in the works. Andy asks how Paulie’s relationship with his ex is, and he says, Dolores is the first woman he brought around his kids, and he’s been separated 14 years. It was a gear shift like with Frank, and Dolores is also on the TV box, but his ex is understanding. A viewer asks, what happened when Frankie was working with Louie? and Dolores says, he got another job, but we flash back to Frank telling Joe #2, the business seems closed, and Louie’s not returning his calls. Dolores says, Louie gave her son a job, and she’s grateful for that. She doesn’t know what the rumor is, and doesn’t want to talk about Frankie. Joe #2 says he’s known Frankie his whole life, and Frankie told him things. Teresa says, he’s lying, and Dolores tells Joe #2, it ends right here. She doesn’t have a problem with him, and doesn’t want one. Andy asks why she’s upset, and she says she doesn’t want to talk about her son. He has a good job, and that’s all that happened. Andy says, that begs more questions, and I wonder if Dolores is afraid of Louie. John asks, how come Louie brought his kid’s mother into this? Bo Dietl’s friends were subcontracted to investigate him. Louis says, Bo is a good friend, but he didn’t have John investigated. John says, you can’t just contact someone in prison, and the number used was traced back to Bo’s people. Andy reminds Louie how he threw Bo Dietl’s name around in the finale, and said he had information on all of them. Louie says, he was misstating in anger.😐We flash back to that, and Rachel says, she and Melissa went out to lunch, and Bo was sitting at a table next to them. She wonders what the odds are of that, and I wonder if Bo could actually stink that much at being a P.I. John tells Louie to stop the bullsh*t. He sees through both of them. Teresa says she’s all about the proof, and Melissa asks if Louie is saying he didn’t hire Bo Dietl, who’s getting a lot of free publicity tonight. Louie says he did not; he was just angry. Andy says, production just called from downstairs, and asks Louie if a security person he hired is here. Louie says he didn’t hire him. Bo sent him. This guy… I don’t even know what to say. Do they watch this stuff back? He doesn’t just look like a liar; he looks like a liar confused by his own lies. He also looks batsh*t crazy sometimes. Like scary crazy.

Louie says, they’ve gotten death threats, and John applauds Louie’s acting skills. Louie says, Bo is working on a case; someone is harassing him. Since she hasn’t drug Marge into it for a minute, Teresa says, Marge has been talking to the person harassing them, and putting out false information. Louie tells Marge, let’s play, because he thinks he’s in some spy movie or maybe Batman, and Marge says she has no idea what they’re talking about. Louie is under criminal investigation. Louie says, she’s lying, and Marge says, Louie called her child, and they have the phone records. She shows Andy, who shows Louie, who admits it’s his cell number. Frank asks if Louie hired Bo to create a slander campaign against him and Joe #2, and Louie says, that’s nothing that would benefit him. Melissa says, bad tweets and bad publicity; that’s why they see so much hate. Louie says, be careful. Their day is coming. Once more reverting to his Bond villain persona. Joe #2 says, the people Louie hires tell them everything, and Andy says, a viewer writes that it sounded like Louie ghosted Joe #2 over the pizza business. Louie says, Joe approached him, and met with Louie’s nephew, who gave Joe money for the ovens. There’s an undercurrent of Teresa and Melissa trading insults, and Teresa says, Melissa is embarrassing. Melissa says, no, you, and Andy says, they’re both embarrassing. Louie says he called Joe and asked if he wanted to take 5 or 10%. Everything was for Teresa, and in her name. Then Joe got upset. Joe says he figured they’d put in half a million to start, and when he asked what was going on, Louie said he was busy. He stole Joe’s idea. Andy asks what John’s reaction is, and John says, if it was Joe’s idea, they should have drawn up a document. Teresa starts nattering on about how she told them to do that, and Andy finally screams at her to let them talk. She’s been doing this all day. She finally shuts up, and Andy asks about Louie and Dina’s husband having a falling out over business. We flash back to Joe #2 talking about Pizzagate, Part 2, and Louie says, Joe is lying and Dina’s husband called him out. Joe calls Louie a woman abuser, which sounds out of context, but to be honest, they’re all talking at once and over each other, so I’m not sure I didn’t miss something. Louie says, Joe is a bully, and he’s going to meet his match. Joe says, Louie will say something nice, then says, in due time… Louie says, Joe will regret this, and Joe says he regrets it every day. He’s done. Okay, I still don’t get Pizzagate Part 1 or 2, especially not 2.

Andy says he wants Joe #2’s reaction. Teresa said Jacqueline told her that he and Melissa were hanging out with Juicy Joe’s former partner who ratted them out. Teresa now believes Joe and Melissa are responsible for her going to jail. Frank asks if Joe waives attorney/client privilege, and Joe agrees. Frank says he was Joe’s attorney at the time, and they were contacted by the FBI. They were asked to come to Paterson to talk. Teresa says she knows Joe #2 would never try to hurt her… and Frank says, Joe #2 never showed up. Teresa says, it was Juicy Joe’s partner, and says something in Italian. Joe says, she broke his heart, and Teresa says, they were talking to Juicy Joe’s partner. Marge asks why Teresa believes every bad rumor, and Teresa says, Jacqueline has no reason to lie. Andy says, her standing up for Jacqueline is the joke of the century, since she’s been talking sh*t about Jacqueline for 10 years. Teresa insists she has not, we flash back, and yes, she has. Hoping to divert from the proof, Teresa says, she’s been through this for 10 years; it’s disgraceful. Louie says, it’s just a matter of time, twirling his moustache, and Joe #2 asks if Louie is threatening him. There’s something about a video, but again, it’s such a noisy mess, I miss it, and Teresa says, there’s stuff in Joe #2’s past. Andy suggests they do something old fashioned and pretend he’s the host. He asks is Joe regrets not going to the wedding, but Joe says, no, and somehow the pizza thing gets brought up again. Andy tells Teresa to stop talking, and Joe says, they were saying his wife was cheating on him. Louie says, they never believed it. He just told Joe so he could get ahead of it. Andy asks why they didn’t invite Melissa, and Louie says, he just called Joe; it’s his fault. He didn’t want what happened to him to happen to Joe. Joe says, Louie told him that it was with multiple men, but Louie says, no, he didn’t. Andy asks if Teresa said Joe could do better, but Joe says, that was Gia. She called him. Teresa says, she’ll call Gia right now at Coachella, and does. Andy takes the phone, and asks if she told her uncle that he can do better than Melissa, and Gia says, she called regarding the wedding. She asked him to do the right thing; mom wanted him to walk her down the aisle. She never said he could do better than her Aunt Melissa. It’s sad. Joe asks if she’s calling him a liar, and Andy tells her to have a blast. Be careful, and don’t take anything someone gives her. Be smart. Obviously he’s been there and done that. Melissa asks why Joe would make it up, and Teresa says, because he’s married to Melissa. Teresa says she was always good to him and put him first. He was her best friend. She starts crying, and says, this is disgraceful. She can’t. She gets up, and as she leaves, she says, mommy and daddy. He should be ashamed. She yells, and don’t come following me! but it’s unclear if she means Joe or the camera.

Melissa says, Teresa’s embarrassed, and we hear her ranting backstage, saying, he lies about her daughter. She doesn’t want to make up. She wants it over. Still onstage, Joe #2 says, she’ll never give up what’s in her brain. Gia calls Teresa and tells her not to cry. Louie has jetted back there too, because Teresa can’t utter a word without him butting in. Frank says, he’s never seen it this bad. It’s not like with Juicy Joe. Melissa says, they never suffered a P.I., and Jennifer insists Louie never hired one. John says, it’s not hearsay, and Melissa says she thinks there’s so much out there on Louie, he wants a folder on everyone else. And Teresa doesn’t want it to come out. Andy goes to see Teresa, and she says she didn’t know Gia called Joe to beg him to come to the wedding. Louie says, Gia might have told him that he could do better for her mom, and Teresa says, not to leave Melissa. Andy says, they can’t keep relitigating this. They have to go out and finish. Teresa says, there are a lot of accusations, and Louie says, they have to build their narrative. Andy apologizes for yelling at Teresa, although I don’t know why. I don’t know how he doesn’t smack her one, or knock her and Melissa’s heads together. Onstage, Dolores says, nobody put their two cents in. Let it be.

Returning to his seat, Andy says, obviously, they’re not resolving anything, but he wants to see if there’s anything else Teresa and Joe want to say before he sends the husbands away. Joe says, Teresa told him that she’s heartbroken, and she says it in Italian again. He says he’ll never say never. She’s his only sister, and he’s not happy with her. He’s upset with her, but he’ll always love her. If she was in an accident tomorrow, he’d run to be by her side. If she was sick, he’d pick her up… She says, no, and Joe says, this is why it will never be with her. She says, it’s like their parents said, honor me while I’m alive, not when I’m dead. Joe says, he and Louie have their differences, and he thinks the best thing to do is to forget about each other. Let Louie do his thing, and leave them alone. Since he’s recharging for his next spiral, Louie shakes hands with Joe. As they leave, Frank says, they’ve wasted way too much energy on this. They’re too old for this. Andy says, it’s a bittersweet time to say goodbye to the husbands, and tells us, we’ll be right back. Louie goes over to John and says, he’s sorry. John’s a good father. John says, then be a friend and admit to what he knows he did, but Louie says he can’t. John says, if he’s going to apologize, own it, when Joe comes over to them, and they all leave the stage area.

Andy says, their final moments are rather somber, and asks Dolores what she’s feeling. Dolores says, nothing got resolved, and she thinks it’s time to part ways. It’s toxic for both of them, and both of them are hurt. Time apart is good. Andy wonders if watching it back spoke to Danielle, since she’s seeing her brother tomorrow. Danielle says she doesn’t know how he’ll react, and she’s afraid. She doesn’t want any toxic fighting. Andy asks if Marge is putting her arsenal behind her, and Jennifer says she’s sick of hearing arsenal. Suddenly struck by the wand of the Wisdom Fairy, she says, at the end of the day, it’s about them being friends. She felt it in Ireland. They had a great time having fun. They’re going to make mistakes; sh*t happens. They need to find a way to put on their big girl panties.😐Dolores says, there’s only one way, and that’s to leave everything behind. Jennifer says, Marge is right, 😐causing me to nearly faint. Unless you forget, you can’t truly forgive. Andy asks if Jennifer and Marge are going to bury the hatchet, and Marge says she’s in a different place in life. She doesn’t want insanity; no negative energy. Danielle agrees, and Andy asks if Rachel has decided to forget the nonsense with her and Danielle, and if they can come together. Rachel says she’s happy to move forward. They have more in common than not, and she’d like to form a new friendship. Danielle says she would too, and Andy says, last, but not least, Melissa and Teresa were more open with their real feelings, yet managed to coexist in a weird way. Teresa says she was getting married, and wanted peace. She tried everything, but Melissa kept denying her. Andy asks where she is now, and she says she just wants peace and to close the door. Melissa says she feels the hate. She could never please Teresa. Whatever she did was wrong. She loves Teresa, no matter what Teresa thinks, and worries about her. She’s just going to go with the flow; whatever the family decides to do.

Andy says, it’s been a tough season, from the highest high, Teresa’s hair; to the lowest low. He thanks them for allowing us into part of their life. They’re going to toast with Irish whiskey and pizza. Surprisingly, when the pizza is brought out (looks like NYC pizza, so I assume they filmed there), several of the ladies chow down.😐I guess it is a pretty long day. Andy asks Dolores to give the toast, and she says; Here’s to cheating, stealing, fighting and drinking. If you cheat, may you cheat death; If you steal, may you steal someone’s heart; If you fight, may you fight for a brother; If you drink, may you drink with me.

Andy says, it’s been a wild ride.

Anna arrives home to find Sonny at her door. He says he was going to give it another ten minutes, then leave a note. She asks why he didn’t text her, and he tells her, some things are better said face to face.

Dante lets Valentin into the interrogation room through the side door, and he asks why Dante wanted to see him. Dante says he needs Valentin’s help with Anna.

Michael brings Carly to the stairwell, and says, they can talk more privately here. She asks if this is where he brought Dex when he asked Dex to spy on Sonny, and he says, sometimes. Why? She says, because she wants his opinion on Dex. Is he trustworthy? Would Michael put the life of someone he loves in Dex’s hands?

Josslyn puts the pieces of the flashdrive in Dex’s palm, and says, there goes their ticket out. Pretty useless now. He asks if it’s the footage of Sonny doing the Pikeman deal, and she says, mm-hm. Michael gave it to her mom. She could have traded this footage to the Feds in exchange for them dropping the charges against her and Drew. Dex risked his life to get that footage, and Carly destroyed it, because protecting Sonny is more important to her.

As they sit down at the MetroCourt restaurant, Chase tells Brook, just say it. She hates it, doesn’t she? She says, what’s to hate? He wanted the new car; he got the one he wanted. How could she possibly hate that? He says, it’s not a car; it’s a truck. It’s got 4-wheel drive, off roading capabilities, advanced driver assistance, and you can operate the off roading capabilities in operating mode or manual. It will be perfect for them to go camping. She says, he wants them to go camping?

Tracy meets Drew at the pool, and she asks why he wanted to meet away from the house. He says, blackmail works so much better when there’s no one to overhear.

Ned comes out on the terrace, and tells Nina, poor Drew. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong girlfriend. She wasn’t after Aurora’s CEO; she wanted to take down Carly. She says she doesn’t know where he came up with this, but he couldn’t be more wrong, and he says he just overheard her conversation with her lawyer. Everyone believes he was the one who handed Carly and Drew over to the SEC, but it was her all along.

Michael asks where Carly is going with this. Has she changed her mind and decided to give the flashdrive to the FBI so she and Drew stay out of prison? Does she think Dex may have to testify because he’s on the footage? She says, the footage no longer exists; she smashed the flashdrive. He asks why she did that. She should have held onto it in case she still wanted a way out for her and Drew. She says, the footage was dangerous. It could have gotten Sonny and Dex killed. Besides, she has a much better use for Dex.

Dex puts the flashdrive pieces in his pocket, and Josslyn asks if he’s sure he wants to hold on to that. There’s no way to retrieve the footage. He says he doesn’t want to retrieve the footage; he wants to physically destroy the flashdrive. He doesn’t want anything left to imply he was ever collecting evidence against Sonny. From here on in, he has to be the most loyal, discreet, trustworthy employee Sonny has. She says, take his orders, risk his life so Sonny can get richer… and he’s okay with that? He says, it’s not about being okay; it’s about survival.

Chase says, Brook doesn’t enjoy camping? Sleeping close to nature and catching a fish in the stream, then cooking it over an open fire? She says, no. She likes sleeping in a bed, and she likes her fish to be caught and prepared by someone else, preferably a five-star chef. He says, what about fresh air, hiking, everything you need in a backpack? and she says, are they hiking, or running from the bear who’s trying to eat them?  He says, what about cuddling up next to each other in front of a roaring campfire? and she says, what about cuddling up next to each other in front of a firepit in the Q boathouse? He says he could totally see that. Her, him, a fire, Olivia bringing them lasagna, Ned going on about his beloved ELQ, and Tracy lecturing him yet again about how he’s not good enough for her. She says, the Q’s date might not be the most romantic, but there are alternatives, and he says, such as? She says, nightclubs, live music. He might even be tempted to get back in the game. He says his heart is very much out of the music biz, but it seems like hers is still in it. Tell him again why she went back to work at Deception.

Tracy says, so much for Drew’s upright and honorable routine, and he says he really didn’t want it to come to this, but a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do. Tracy understands the language of blackmail. She says she understands more about the process than he does apparently. Blackmail requires leverage, and he has none to use against her. He says, let’s start with Deception, shall we? She coerced Brook into going back to work there. She says, where Brook chooses to work is her business, and he says, his point exactly. If it were up to Brook, she’d be working in music. She’s working at Deception under Tracy’s orders, and he kind of feels Lucy Coe would like to hear that. She says, fine. Get Lucy Coe down here; tell her everything. A waiter asks if they’re looking for Lucy Coe.

Dante asks if Valentin thought he was getting arrested, and Valentin says, given their history, he couldn’t be sure. Falsifying his death… Dante says he’s sure Valentin had reasons for doing that, and Valentin says, so did Anna. He asks if this is an official inquiry, but Dante says, it’s off the record, and personal. That article in The Sun that was about Anna’s WSB file was pretty brutal. Valentin asks how Dante is hoping he can help, and Dante says, Valentin is Victor’s son, and Victor was head of the WSB for many years. He had a lot of opportunity to plant a lie in Anna’s file that could be used as a time bomb he could set off whenever he wanted to. Valentin says, his father was a mean and spiteful man. He had full faith in his plan, but he was prepared to exact revenge in case of his failure, in which he thought Anna Devane could always play a part. He was right, and now he’s making her pay for it. Dante says he wants to clear Anna’s name. So how do they prove her file was doctored?

Nina says she was curious about Carly and Drew’s legal situation, so she asked her lawyer about it. Ned must have misinterpreted. Ned says, it’s too late to save this. As soon as you eliminate him, she becomes the obvious suspect; the one that has the most to gain by sending Carly off to prison. Although she took a big risk, and maybe she’s realized that by now, and that’s the reason she called a meeting with her lawyer. She must have realized that, even though Sonny and Carly are divorced, Sonny would do anything to protect her. When he finds out Nina was the one who pointed the SEC at Carly, she and Sonny are done.

Anna asks if Sonny wants to come inside, but he says, it’s up to her. He doesn’t want to intrude. She tells him, she has the feeling that whatever he was about to say, she doesn’t want to hear it on the doorstep. They go inside, and she asks if he’d like some water, but he says, no thanks. She says she’s going to have a drink, and he says, go ahead. She pours herself something, and takes a sip. She says, go ahead, call her a hypocrite, and he asks if that’s why she thinks he came here. She says, obviously. After all the years she spent upholding the law as a special agent and Police Commissioner, investigating him for various crimes, questioning him about how he could possibly reconcile breaking the law with being a loving parent, and now he gets to find out that she was a criminal herself? Actually, worse than that. A double agent, which is to say, a traitor. He asks if she’s finished, because he wasn’t going to say any of that, and she asks what he was going to say. He says, she’s upset. He’ll come back some other time. She says, please wait. She’s sorry. Not at her best. Please stay.

Michael asks what better use Carly has for Dex, and she says, before she tells him, what’s his assessment of Dex? He says he guesses he likes Dex. He took on an impossible job and did it really well. He’s had relentless pressure for months and didn’t crack. He wormed his way into Sonny’s confidence, despite being with Josslyn, which Sonny didn’t like. She asks what he knows about Dex’s time in the military, and he says he knows Dex was discharged because of some personal issue, but his combat experience is excellent; highest rating. He had the reputation of keeping a cool head under fire, which is one of the reasons Michael hired him. Why is she interested? She says, because she wants him to hire Dex to do another job.

Josslyn asks why Dex isn’t angrier. Why isn’t he angry period? Both her mother and brother have the chance to set him free, yet they’re leaving him trapped. He says, Michael gave him a job; the job changed. It happens. She says, so he’s totally fine working for Sonny, but he says, it’s not about what’s fine. It’s the situation he’s in. He spent months earning Sonny’s trust, convincing Sonny to let him in. Just tonight, Sonny gave him a lecture on how he’s in this now; how he has to commit. He doesn’t have the option to leave. She says, actually, he might. He can just ask Sonny to let him go.

Tracy asks if the waiter always eavesdrops on private conversations, but he says he wasn’t eavesdropping. He was just doing his job. They’re about to resume poolside cocktail service. Tracy says, well don’t. She wants privacy. That means, no bartender, no guests, no staff, including himself; just her and Mr. Cain. And if anyone has any questions about that, they can contact Olivia Quartermaine, her daughter-in-law, the co-owner of this place. The waiter leaves, and Drew says, that was rude. And pointless. Chewing out a hotel employee just to make herself feel better. It’s not going to keep Brook in place at Deception. She suggests he focus on his own problems. He seems to have enough of them. He says, as it happens, she’s the answer to his problems.

Brook tells Chase, they’ve been over this. She went back to Deception because she really loves those ladies, and they really need her. He says, really? They seem like pretty savvy businesswomen. She says, they are, but they don’t really understand the nuances of social media presence, and he says, and the music? She says she’ll still be doing music on a part-time basis, and he says, music is her passion. It’s one of the first things he learned about her. What happened to change that? She says she found a new passion, and he says, Deception? She says, him, when Olivia stops by. Brook asks her to join them, but she says she thinks Ned is waiting for her on the terrace. Brook says her dad is probably on some phone calls. Please sit down. Chase can tell her about his new truck. Oliva says, a new truck? and sits down. Tell her all about it.

Ned says, in the long run, Nina’s done herself a favor. She’s much better off without Sonny Corinthos. Nina says she and Sonny are engaged, but he says, not for long. She says, gee, most people say congratulations, and he tells her, just accept the fact that she and Sonny won’t be living happily ever after. She says, that tip was anonymous. There’s no way anyone will be able to prove he did it. He says he didn’t; she did. She says, no one’s going to have to know who’s responsible for this. Just keep doing what he’s doing, insisting he didn’t do anything. The people who know him, the people who really matter will believe him… eventually. He says he has no intention of taking the fall for her. She did this, and she’d better find a way to clean it up. Nina sees Trish and shushes him. Trish tells Nina, the pool man just told her that Tracy Quartermaine shut down the entire pool area because she wanted privacy, and Nina says, for what? Trish says she doesn’t know, but apparently Drew Cain is there. Trish leaves, and Ned says, Drew’s here. He needs to talk to him. Ned dashes off, and Nina runs after him.

Dante is looking at the article about Anna, when there’s a knock at the door. He says, come in, and Sam walks in. He asks how she got in here, and she says, her boyfriend’s a cop and the desk sergeant breaks the rules for her occasionally. They kiss, and Dante says, he doesn’t blame him. He would’ve done the same thing. She says, lucky her, and he asks why she is here. Was he supposed to do something or be somewhere? She says, he was supposed to be home two hours ago, and he says he’s sorry. She says she figured he was working on a case, but he’s just sitting here and she got no text or call. She wants to know what’s going on. He says he’s just worried about a friend.

Sonny says, when the news story broke about Anna, he started thinking about all the headlines he’s been through over the years. She says, they don’t seem like headlines now; they seem like take downs. He says, two were seared in his memory. Wife of Crime Lord Dies in a Car Bomb. He saw the headline the next morning, after his wife died. And the other one was, Corinthos Son Killed in a Suspected Mob Hit. That was Morgan. He was already in hell from all the pain and grief. It was a lot to take. His private life all over the world for everybody to see, for everybody to read, for everybody to judge. (Yet no one knew who he was in Nixon Falls. Go figure.) They don’t know what happened to him. They don’t know how he suffered. Just like he doesn’t know why she did what she did. That’s why he’s here to tell her that he’s sorry for how she fell. He’s sorry for what happened to her. She thanks him for sharing that, and says she feels like sometimes she gets in her own way. He says, that headline was just a take down. She knows that, right? She says, the most difficult part of this is, the news story is true. It’s factually accurate; she did those things. There were reasons. There were justifications, excuses. There was a context then that the media has chosen to leave out, but she can’t deny it happened. She tears up, and says she made a lot of mistakes at the beginning of her career, and thinks she’s spent most of her life trying to make up for them. Now it’s come and bit her in the most public way. He says he’s done things allegedly – they both laugh – but he’s done them. Some, he felt there was a reason to do them, and others he regrets. But he always tells himself, his life, who he is now, should not be limited to the worst things he’s done in his life. Just like her. She’s a great mother, a great grandma. She’s courageous and brilliant, and no matter what, he’ll always consider her his friend… whatever that’s worth. She says, it’s worth a lot.

Michael tells Carly, the peace between him and Sonny right now is pretty fragile. He’s going to be suspicious if Michael hires Dex out from under him. She says she wants him to pay Dex to keep working for Sonny. Since Jason died, Sonny doesn’t have someone to be his right hand. Michael says, what about Brick? and she says, Brick’s great, but he’s based on the west coast. He can’t be by Sonny’s side day in and day out, but Dex can, and given Michael’s description, he’s obviously qualified. Michael says, in what way specifically? and she says she wants Dex to use all of his skills to protect Sonny; to follow orders. And if he sees trouble coming, he needs to tell Michael, and Michael needs to tell him how to advise Sonny.

Josslyn says, when she met with Sonny in his office that day and asked him to fire Dex, he told her that Dex would have to go in himself and ask him. But he never said anything about refusing to let Dex quit. Everybody knows they’re together now. Everybody’s seen them. Sonny can’t just disappear him and nobody will ask questions. Sonny already knows she doesn’t want Dex working for him. It makes perfect sense for him to quit. She’s not saying it will be easy, but it can be done. Dex just has to meet with Sonny, and tell him respectfully that he wants out. Dex says he doesn’t want out.

Drew tells Tracy, Ned’s got connections at the SEC. He can make this investigation into him and Carly go away. She says, and he thinks he can force Ned into getting the SEC to back off, and he says, no, but he thinks she can. She laughs and says, she loves his sense of humor, and his imaginative fantasy world, but he says, no fantasy here. She either persuades Ned, or he tells Ned the truth that she dragged Brook into potential intellectual property theft, malfeasance, and corporate espionage. These are activities that carry the potential for criminal penalties. So how is her son going to react when he finds out she put her granddaughter at risk? Ned comes running in, and says, there’s something he has to tell Drew… He trips on a pile of towels, and falls into the pool, hitting his head on the side. He floats face down, and Nina stops short in the hallway, where she can see, but not be seen.

Anna sits on the steps going upstairs, when Valentin walks in. She says, he needs to not do that, and he asks why she’s not taking his calls. She says she doesn’t want to. She’d like to smash her phone actually. She’d like to put the SIM card down the waste disposal. He asks if he can join her, and sits next to her. He says he’s sorry. He’s sorry his father has done this to her. She says she hates Victor. She hated him when he was alive, and loathes him now that he’s dead. If there’s a hell, she hopes he burns there for all eternity. Valentin says, him too, and Anna says, Victor didn’t do this to her. She did it to herself.

Sam asks who Dante’s friend is, and what made them keep Dante here. He asks if she knows that hit piece about Anna in The Sun, about her being a double agent, and she says, yeah. He says, it’s true, and Sam says she just assumed it was a lie. He says, so did he, so he called Valentin over here to help him exonerate her. She says, Valentin loves Anna. Of course (🍷) he’d want to help her. Dante tells her, there were some things Valentin said about the classified information, and about how ugly it is when it sees the light of day, which is why it’s classified. Valentin said he should know, because after some of the things Dante did for the WSB, the last thing he would want is for it to be plastered on the front page of anything. He just feels bad for Anna. He doesn’t know how she’s going to build back her life again. Sam says, it’s possible. After all, he did.   

Josslyn says, Dex wants to work for Sonny? and he says he wants to work in Port Charles. Mostly for her, but he likes it here. He gravitates to the moss bowl🎍, because he likes that too, and he says he likes a lot of the people he’s met here. It’s starting to feel like home. He hasn’t had one of those since he was a kid. She says, sometimes she forgets how different their lives have been. There are so many things she takes for granted; some things Dex never had. He says, one of the advantages of not having things is that when you get them, you value them and don’t want to let them go. He likes what he has here. He wants to stay. She says, he doesn’t have to work for Sonny to stay, but he says he can’t think of anything he’d rather do.

Michael says, let him get this straight. Carly wants him to be Sonny’s guardian angel while Dex does all the legwork. She says, yes, and he says, so instead of sending Sonny to prison, she wants him and Dex to work together to keep him out of Pentenville. Keep him safe, monitor his business ventures, keep a level head, and counsel. She nods, and he says, so everything Jason used to do, he and Dex will be doing together. She says, yes, except there’s one obvious catch. Sonny can never know.

Drew turns Ned over, and Tracy asks if he’s breathing. Nina scrambles for her phone to film it for social media, and Tracy runs for her bag. Drew tells Ned, they’ve got this, and gets Ned out of the pool and onto the floor. Nina pockets her phone, as Tracy says, her adult son just fell into the MetroCourt pool and he hit his head and he’s not breathing. On opposite sides of the room, Tracy and Nina both look distraught, and Drew begins chest compression.

Anna says, Valentin knew she was a double agent, right? and he says, and she knows espionage is a shadowy thing. It’s all compromise, neither good nor bad; just varying shades of grey. And no one can claim being entirely pure of intentions, certainly not him. Not even Robert Scorpio. She says she’s not afraid to face Robert. He knew everything; found out years ago. And Robin was aware. Maybe not all the gory details, but she knew enough. He says, so who is it she’s worried about? and she says she thinks the people it’s going to affect the most, the people who are going to look at her differently, are Emma and Noah.

Michael says, what he doesn’t get is that Carly, Drew, or both could be sent to federal prison, yet her priority is to protect Sonny? Apparently, he wasn’t listening to the last speech she gave him on why Sonny can’t go to prison. She says, her problems with the SEC are for her and Drew to figure out. When she showed him that flashdrive, it proved how vulnerable his father is. Pikeman is a defense contractor, right? He says, enemies against the government, and potential enemies in the government (or something to that effect), and she says, a challenge his father has never dealt with before. When he showed her that footage of Sonny taking that delivery, it was evidence he violated national security. If Michael hadn’t changed his mind, his father would be in prison right now. Donna and Avery’s lives would be destroyed, and their lives would be in danger. She needs him to step up and protect his father. He says, what if he’s willing, but Dex isn’t?

Dex tells Josslyn, he has a high school diploma, no college courses, no interest in taking any. What kind of job can he get? Security? Doorman at the MetroCourt? She says, he was in security before, and there’s noting wrong with making a good, honest living, but he says he’s not as noble as she thinks he is. Sonny pays a helluva lot more than her honest living, and he’s good at it. Sonny is paying him to do things he already knows how to do, and he’s willing to accept a certain amount of risk. She says, and he’s willing to break the law, and he says, the worst thing he’s seen Sonny do is hang him from a meat hook. I laugh, because it’s true. Sonny is the most innocuous mobster in the world. She says, that could have been a lot worse, but he says he survived, thanks to her. Ever since he saved Sonny’s life at the warehouse, Sonny’s attitude toward him has changed. Sonny’s giving him more opportunities and trusting him more. This is his best option, and he’s going to take it. Unless it’s going to cost him her.

Brook says, Chase did all the research, and can tell Olivia all the specs. Olivia is all excited, and asks if it has 4-wheel drive, advanced driver assist, hands-free technology. Brook says, Olivia’s family used to own a garage in Brooklyn, and Chase says, nice. To answer her question, yes, yes, and yes. She says, then don’t think, do. Can she ask what’s the special reason he decided to buy this fancy new truck? He says he came into some money doing this whole singing thing – Brook says, like she promised – and now that he’s back to being a cop, he thought he’d treat himself to the truck of his dreams. Olivia says, congratulations, when Trish runs over, and tells Olivia that the paramedics are coming up. There’s been a slip and fall at the pool.

Drew continues to work on Ned, when the paramedics come in and take over. Drew says, he’s been unconscious for a couple of minutes. He’s been doing CPR. He got no sign of any pulse at all. Please… Olivia comes in, followed by Brook and Chase. She starts to run to Ned, but Drew holds her back, saying, let them do their work. The hallway is empty.

Nina pours a drink in Sonny’s office, and looks at her engagement ring. She flashes back to Sonny proposing. Then she remembers Ned saying, when Sonny finds out she was the one who pointed the SEC at Carly, she and Sonny are done. Sonny comes in, and says, Frank told him that she was waiting. What brings her by?

Anna tells Valentin that she switched her phone off because she’s a coward. Of all the people that could reach out to her, the one person she dreads is Emma. Emma is going to beg her to say it’s not true, that she wasn’t a traitor. She’s going to have to tell Emma… She starts to cry, and he puts his hand on her knee. She says, that she was, and Valentin says he thinks Anna shouldn’t underestimate her. She’s going to be hurt, she’s going to want an explanation, but Anna can give it to her. Anna can tell her that she was pulled in over her head; that she was manipulated by Cesar Faison. Anna says, she knows. She was, but how do you explain that? Maybe one day she’ll want to listen. Emma might even forgive her. But the way Emma used to look at her, with such pride, like she was the thing Emma aspired to be, that’s gone forever. He holds her as she cries. I wish my grandma had been Anna. She used to try and get us to take hard boiled eggs in a paper bag for the plane ride home. 😖

Sam says, Dante was pretty wrecked when he came back from the WSB, and he says, that’s one way to put it. She says, he managed to rebuild his life, and he says he had a lot of help; from Anna, from his family, and mostly from her. He wouldn’t have chosen any of that, but he survived. And waiting for him on the other side was Sam, someone he never expected. Now he never wants any other life, and it’s all her fault. He says he loves her, and they kiss.

Michael tells Carly, yes, Dex is qualified to protect Sonny, but who says he wants to, or that he’ll agree to take the risk of reporting back to him what Sonny does. Sure, it’s in Sonny’s best interest, but Sonny won’t see it that way. That means Dex would be a spy, and it could get him killed. Why should he take that risk when he can just take the money he’s earned and disappear? She says, he knows Dex. Would he do that? Michael says, he wouldn’t blame him if he did. He knows it would break Josslyn’s heart; she cares about him. Carly says, she truly cares about him. That’s one of the reasons she came up with this plan. Josslyn’s feelings are getting deeper and deeper all the time. The longer Dex stays in Port Charles, the more devastated she’ll be if he decides to leaved. If he decides to disappear, better it happens now. He asks if she’s sure about this, and she says, no. She’s not sure about any of this, but she does know she wants Michael to give Dex a choice, and let’s see what he decides.

Josslyn says, Dex just made this big case about why he wants to work for Sonny, but he’ll quit if she wants him to? He says he’s very clear she wants him to, but he’ll quit if it’s the only way they can stay together. She takes his hand and says, no. She’s not going to put conditions on their relationship. She’s not going to tell him what he can and can’t do. He’d only start resenting her. So she’d rather take her chances, and watch him take his with Sonny. Dex can go be his best lieutenant, risk his life, and break the law. Just remember, his life is kind of important to her. He says he’ll remember, and kisses her.

Sonny asks, what’s wrong? and Nina says, it’s all his fault. If he hadn’t given her such a spectacular ring, she wouldn’t be thinking about him all the time. So it leads her to want to see him, which led her to come here. He says, she’s always welcome, and she says, remember when they came back from Nixon Falls, and she was convinced she’d lost him forever? He hated her for withholding the truth about who he was. She thought he’d never forgive her, but what made it even worse was the memory of how happy she’d been with him. He says, they’ve all done things they regret and can’t forget the past, but what they can do is not live there. They can also think about the future they’re going to have – together. She says she wants that more than anything, but tonight, she just wants him, and they hug.

The paramedics get Ned situated on the gurney, and Olivia says she’s his wife. She needs to be riding in the ambulance with him. She tells Ned she’s here, and asks if he can hear her. She’s not leaving him, even for a second. Brook asks, what happened? and Tracy says, Drew attacked Ned and almost killed him. She tells Chase to put his badge to use; arrest him for assault.

Tomorrow, Austin tells Ava, if she doesn’t do what Mason wants, it could get them both killed; Elizabeth says, Finn’s secret is safe with her; and Drew asks if Chase is seriously going to arrest him.

This was an excellent season, and I called it. I couldn’t help thinking of what I’d do during the different challenges. Like when the chefs did elevated picnics. I would have handed the judges a to-go bag from Balducci’s.

🍸 Not Today Satan…

We all need a break from the Vanderpump Rules Reunion blues – I know it bummed me out – so I’ll just say this about that. While I blame them both, Sandoval is the worse of the two. He’s truly a sociopath with delusions of grandeur, and I don’t care how much he wails that he’s human. That wasn’t an, oops, we were really drunk, or even, I fell in love with someone else. Not that those would be an excuse to cheat. You should always close the door on one relationship before opening it to another. The thing that made it so awful was that it went on for so long. Sandoval is also nearly 40, and obviously the less sheltered of the two, and no doubt manipulating the situation.

Which brings me to the awful vapidness of the ex-beauty queen runner-up. The fact that she could pretend to be such a good friend to Ariana is extremely disturbing. I don’t know if Rachel is a sociopath, but there’s definitely something going on there in that there seems to be nothing going on there. Lisa had it correct that she seemed to be playing a role, like it was a competition. It’s what she knows, but it’s not as human as she claims. Normally, those who grow up in that life either leave it behind eventually, live off their endorsements, or when they can no longer do, they teach the next generation of contestants. Rachel is stuck in some weird groove in the movie in her head, and Ariana also had it right in that she finds her identity in men, and has no original thoughts. Why? Who knows? Hopefully, she’ll find these things out in therapy, but she’s done for on reality TV. And if she’s offered one of those villain roles in some all-stars challenge show, it would be in her best interest to steer clear. I have no clue what her parents are really like, since James’s narrative is questionable to be sure; that they started it. It would behoove them to take charge, and get her as far away from LA as possible.

As for Lisa, she who can do no wrong, I have never seen her look sadder. At least not in public. I have no clue what happens behind closed doors, nor should I, but I have never seen her look like that. Not when her mother died, not when her brother died of an overdose, not when Giggy, or any of the other dogs, or the pony died. It was the sadness of a mother whose children have seriously f***ed up. And she does look at them as her children, so I hope Ariana and Lala eventually give her a pass.

Ariana is already doing okay. Her heart’s still broken, but better now than after they got married and/or had children. I’m with her on thank God her eggs weren’t fertilized. He would have probably challenged her for them on top of it. Lala was spot on once again when she said Ariana would look back and see this as a favor.

The whole thing was just sad.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Nina walks to lock the door at Charlie’s when two masked gunmen bust in. One of them says, don’t do anything stupid and you might live through this. Sonny says, everything’s fine. Take what you want and we’ll stay out of your way. A gunman says, shut up. Stay right there. Sonny says, nothing has happened and nothing needs to happen. Turn around and go, and this will all be over.

Dante comes up behind Sam, seeing her with his phone, and asks what she’s doing. She says she was forwarding his forensics file to her email, and he takes the phone out of her hand, saying, forwarding the PCPD confidential file to her email? She says, he’s mad, and he says, of course (🍷) he’s mad. What was she thinking? She says she doesn’t know. She did it for the right reasons. He asks, what reasons? and she says, Trina and Joss. Drew gets off the elevator, and Carly notices that Sam and Dante are having a conflict. Sam says, Dante told her that he didn’t think Trina did it, and he says, they have to do a legal investigation, and he doesn’t remember hiring her for her P.I. services on this one. She says she wasn’t doing it as a P.I., and he says, then in what capacity… Carly runs over, and says, it’s her fault. She’s the one… Drew drags her away, and she asks what he’s doing.

Drew brings Carly to a private area, and she asks what he thinks he’s doing. He says he knows exactly what he’s doing. Saving her from herself.

At the gym, Austin asks Chase if he can help with wrapping Chase’s hands, but Chase says he’s good. Spinelli says, as it stands, it would be wise for Austin to keep his hands free, and Austin asks, why is that? Spinelli says, because insulting a woman’s honor does not go unnoticed. Not by him. Brook and Maxie come in, and Brook says, they had champagne this morning and now they’re working out. They’re doing this day backwards. Maxie says, Brook will do so much better once she gets her sweat on. She sees Spinelli, and says, then again, cardio is way overrated.

Josslyn goes to the gallery, and asks if Trina is okay. They hug, and Trina says, she didn’t have to come, but Josslyn says she did. She could tell Trina was upset. Trina says, from her text, and Josslyn says, that’s how well she knows Trina. Trina asks if Josslyn wasn’t hanging out with Cam, but Josslyn says she was already on her way home. Stop asking her questions; what happened? Trina says, Spencer happened.

Cameron opens the door to Spencer, and says, what do you want? Spencer says, wow. Welcomes don’t come warmer than that. Cameron asks if he was expecting something different, and Spencer says, he knows Cameron is pissed at him – Cameron says, that would be an understatement – but he could really use a friend right now. Cameron says, he’s come to the wrong place.

Sasha and Brando head back to Charlie’s, Sasha saying, she can’t believe Brando forgot to invite Sonny. They see what’s going on through the window, and Brando tells Sasha, call the police.

Brook says, Maxie invited her boyfriend, her baby dad, and Chase? Maxie says, to a dance cardio class? She most certainly did not. She goes over to them, and says, this is certainly quite the trio. Brook joins them, and tells Chase, hi. Spinelli says, had he known Maxie was going to be here, he’d have taken this elsewhere. She says, taken what? What is he doing? Austin says, defending her honor apparently, and Spinelli says, the doctor has to answer for his transgressions. Maxie says, let’s have a little chat. Come on. Austin and Spinelli follow her, and Chase tells Brook, he heard the Deception IPO launch was a success; social media went crazy and the stock price went through the roof. She says, yeah, thanks, and he asks how she is. She says she’s good. Him? He says, not so great, and she asks, what’s wrong? Is he feeling okay? He says he’s feeling terrible that he let her down.

Carly tells Drew that she was just trying to explain she was the one who put Sam up to it, and Dante was getting twitchy… Drew asks if twitchy is a technical term, and she says, she wanted Dante to know it was her fault; Sam didn’t do anything. He says he understands, and she says, great. She starts to leave, but he pulls her back, asking where she’s going. She says she’s going back out there, but he says, she’s not. She’s going to sit right here. She sits, and he says, here’s the deal. Dante and Sam are in a relationship. She says she’s aware of that. She was just trying to explain… and he says, what’s happening out there, Dante getting twitchy or angry or whatever it is, that’s between them. He sits across from her, and says he realizes she was just trying to explain, and that’s very well-intentioned, but when has inserting herself into another couple’s problems ever worked out? She says, never. Okay, he’s right. She made things worse, didn’t she? He says, it kind of surprised him that she wanted to get involved at all, and she says, really? After the whole Victor/bridge debacle? He says, this was a little bit different; Sam’s not in danger. She says she feels like she’s losing her mind. With the whole Josslyn video tape scandal, Trina getting arrested… He asks, what’s happening with that? and she says, he doesn’t want to know, but he says, yeah, he does.

Josslyn says, Spencer said he was worried about Trina? Really? After all he did was accuse her of being guilty? Trina says, it was kind of like whiplash. One minute, he was like, concerned, and the next minute, he was talking about how she can’t blame Esme for everything. Josslyn says, like hell they can’t, and Trina tells her, go on, say it. Josslyn tried to warn her about him. She said Spencer was sincere in the moment, but at the core, he’s a shallow and easily manipulated person. The only thing he has mileage for is being a lost little rich boy, and when it matters, there’s no there there. Josslyn tells her, if she said that, she didn’t say it nearly as well. She probably just called Spencer a tool. Trina tells her, she said that too, and Josslyn says she doesn’t want to be right. Trina says, and she doesn’t want to care about Spencer. Josslyn says, but she does, and Trina says, if she didn’t, it wouldn’t hurt as much.

Cameron says, Trina was already having a hard time as it is, then Spencer accused her of Esme’s crimes. Spencer asks how Cameron heard about that, and Cameron says, about Spencer’s little trip to the PCPD? Trina’s his friend, the real kind, the kind that shares stuff and have each other’s backs. Spencer says, it’s not what Cameron thinks, and asks if he can come inside. Please? He hates that Trina thinks the worst of him. That’s why he’s here. Cameron steps aside, and Spencer walks in, thanking him. Cameron says he hopes Spencer isn’t expecting any sympathy, because it’s not his fault Spencer turned his back on Trina and spawned this baby with the devil. Spencer says, Esme isn’t pregnant, and Cameron says, too bad. Spencer deserves to be tied down to that nightmare for life. Spencer says, okay, fine. So, no baby, but the other thing Cameron said is true; he let Trina down. Cameron says, big time.

Sonny tells the gunmen, leaving is still an option. They can’t ID them, even if they tried. One of the gunmen says, shut up and open the till. They want their wallets and jewelry. Nina hands over her purse, and Sonny says, tonight’s profits have already been deposited, so it’s only petty cash. The guy says, get it, and Sonny says, he’s going to go grab it, but the gunman says, not alone he’s not. He follows Sonny, and Sonny goes behind the bar, bringing the cash box out. Nina fingers her necklace, and the other gunman asks what she’s doing. Sonny says, he doesn’t want to touch her, and the gunman says, and if he does? pointing his gun at Sonny. Brando watches through the window, and Sonny says, he doesn’t want to find out. Take what they came for; get the hell out. The gunman by the bar tells Sonny, your watch, but Sonny says the guy’s not taking the watch. It belonged to his dad. The other gunman says, can you believe this guy? and Sonny says, if he wants the watch, he’ll have to rip it off him. Brando comes in, startling the gunman by the door, and Sonny grabs the other one. Brando totally kicks ass, slamming the guy on a table, knocking him out, and Sonny flips the other gunman over the bar. He asks if Nina is okay, and she says she thinks so. He tells Brando that he did good.

Chase says he regrets the way he responded when Brook asked him to sing her song, but she says she understands. Wanting to get off suspension is his priority, and she gets that. He tells her, she says it’s fine, but he’s getting the vibe that it’s not, and she says, his future as a detective is bright. Excuse her.

Dante says he never thought he’d have to guard his phone from Sam, and she says, come on. He says, it’s an official document meant for a police officer, him, for work. It’s not meant for a civilian. She sees that, right? She says, of course (🍷) she does, but it’s a report. Everything in it is eventually going to come out; it moves forward. He says, she’s right, but she doesn’t see where it’s a problem? She says, it’s not like she was stealing government secrets or tampering with evidence, and he agrees, it’s not. Her getting eyes on this isn’t a game changer. She says, all right. Then… He says, she went into his phone. She accessed private files without asking him. He thought they’d gotten to a place of mutual trust, and she says, they have. He says, it just doesn’t seem like it to him, or maybe she has a different definition of it than he does. He’s going to get privileged information, stuff she isn’t allowed to see. It’s that simple. It has nothing to do with how he feels about her. She says she understands, and he says, does she? HIs phone rings, and he looks at it, and says he needs to know he can trust her for this to work. He steps away to answer, and says, okay… He’ll be right there. She asks if he has to go, and he says, yeah, grabs his jacket, and leaves.

Drew says he doesn’t know if Carly got his message, and she says she did. She’s sorry she didn’t call him back. He says she doesn’t have to apologize. He knows things have been crazy. She says, he has no idea, and he says, so tell him. She says, so this tape gets out, and Josslyn is utterly humiliated. She knows Cam is too, but… He says, but it’s not the same. Both were victimized, no doubt about it, but at the end of the day, the guy ends up looking like a sex god, and the girl is labeled a slut. She says, pretty much, and he says he’s sorry, but he does give Joss and Cam credit for doing the article. She says, he has to throw some credit Alexis’s way too, and he says, wow, praising Alexis. She says, wonders never cease, but she really got the story, and the way we wanted the story to be told. He says, focusing on the victimization, and how much lands on the girl. Part of him wanted to get in to that with Aurora; pick up the story, give it more steam. But then he worried about piling it on, and she says she’s glad he stayed on the sidelines. Alexis was far enough removed that she could let Alexis handle doing the story, but with him, things could get tricky. He’s just too close. He says, in that case, he’s going to take advantage of that closeness, and she says, okay… He asks how she is. How is she dealing with all of this?

Spencer tells Cameron, he knows he said hurtful things to Trina. He doesn’t deny that, but it’s complicated. Cameron says, cry me a river. He misses the times Spencer was just an annoying snob and just pretentious. Now he’s a full-blown ass. Spencer asks if Cameron will please hear him out, and Cameron asks, why? So Spencer can bombard him with lies and excuses? Spencer says, no excuses, but he’s allowed to have problems, isn’t he? Cameron says, Spencer wants to talk about problems? He just lost his summer job that he worked years to get. And now there’s people on the internet critiquing his performance in bed, and he’s in a weird space with his girlfriend. Spencer says he’s sorry. Cam and Joss don’t deserve what’s happening to them. Cameron says, it didn’t just happen to them. A crime was committed against them. Spencer says he knows, but Cameron says he doesn’t know. Spencer’s not his friend. In fact, he wants nothing to do with Spencer. The way he’s jerked Trina around, gotten her to lie for him, and begged her to save him, and his disgusting girlfriend… Spencer says he knows Esme did it, okay? He knows she framed Trina. Now it’s his turn to try and save Trina.

Maxie says, Austin is a good man, and Spinelli would know that if he just gave Austin a chance. Spinelli says, Austin’s not worthy of her, but she says he doesn’t think anyone is worthy of her. She really likes Austin, and would like to see where this goes. Can Spinelli accept that? He says he supposes he has to, and she says, that’s the spirit, punches his shoulder, and walks over to Austin.

Spencer says, Trina is innocent; he’s always believed that. Cameron says, really? Or is Spencer just telling him that? Spencer says, really, and Cameron asks, then why is he pretending to be on Team Esme? Spencer says, he’s trying to get Esme to lower her guard, so that she can lead him to something, anything that will exonerate Trina. Cameron says, that sounds really shady, and Spencer says he’s sorry. Does Cameron have a better idea? Cameron says, no, but is it really worth hurting Trina? Spencer says, Cameron should have seen the look in Trina’s eyes when he just left her at the gallery. It gutted him. And he hasn’t been able to lose that feeling since he stupidly left with Esme the night of their ski trip. Cameron asks if Spencer means that, and Spencer nods. Cameron says, Spencer does have feelings for Trina. Okay. He thinks they both have problems.

Outside Kelly’s, Josslyn asks if Trina is okay, and Trina says, it sounded like a good idea at the time, but now that she’s here… Josslyn says, Spencer’s not working, and Trina says, it’s not that. Josslyn says she gets it. When the video came out, she didn’t want to go anywhere. She didn’t want to come here, she didn’t want to go to the MetroCourt, and especially not class. But then she realized hiding doesn’t help; it makes things worse. Trina says she’s not hiding per se. She just doesn’t want to feel like she’s being put under a microscope. Josslyn says, the microscope is not real, and Trina asks if she’s sure about that. Josslyn says, it’s good for them to be seen together. Would she really be hanging out with the person who made a sex tape of her and her boyfriend? Trina says, probably not, and Josslyn says, so let’s go inside, heads held high, order dessert. Trina says, speak for herself. She’s ordering potato wedges. Josslyn says, you rebel, and they go inside.

Carly says, how is she? and Drew says, that’s a bit of a loaded question. She says she just wants to come out swinging and fix everything, but it’s Josslyn’s fight, not hers. He says, still, it would feel pretty good to lay into somebody, and she says, not somebody; Esme Prince. He says, Spencer’s girlfriend? and Carly says, she made and sent that video, and framed Trina. He asks if they’re trusting her instincts on this, which he absolutely does, or is it based on fact? She says, a little bit of both, and he says, fair enough. She says, this girl has a history of deviant behavior; beyond sneakiness or manipulation. He says, straight up evil, and she says, yeah, and this so-called evidence against Trina? It’s all circumstantial, not to mention ridiculously convenient. She knows Trina. She’d never do something like this. So that’s where she’s at. She just wants all this to be over. She wants Josslyn, Trina, and Cameron to go on with their lives, and she wants Esme to go down. He says, meaning Carly wants to take her down, and she says, hell yeah. He says he gets it. That’s how he felt about Peter August. He wanted it to be him who got Peter, him who got the evidence to put him away. And after he escaped yet another conviction, he wanted to be the guy to shoot him, and end that miserable life, but it’s not how it panned out.

Brando comes out of Charlie’s, and hugs Sasha, as the cops take the gunmen away. He tells her that he’s fine, and she says, it was dangerous. He tells her, don’t forget sexy, and she says, he could have been killed. He says he had to do something, and she tells him, promise not to make it a habit. He says he promises. He’s not going anywhere. Inside, Nina says she’s glad Phyllis wasn’t here for this, and Sonny says, he’s sorry Nina was. She thanks him for protecting her, and he says, she protects him from Scotty; he’ll always protect her. They laugh, and Dante comes in. He asks if they’re up to answering a few questions, or do they need a minute. Sonny looks at Nina.

Dante says, so Phyllis and the bodyguard are outside being questioned. They were at the bank when these perps arrived? Sonny says, that’s right, and Dante asks if he thinks they knew he owned Charlie’s. If they did and they hit the place anyway, that’s a pretty bold move. Brando and Sasha walk in, and Brando says he should go talk to Dante so they can get out of here and go home. As soon as he’s gone, she digs in her bag, takes out her pillbox, and pops a pill. Nina says, Sasha, and Sasha turns around. Nina says she thinks Sasha knows what she’s going to say.

Spinelli sees Sam at the MetroCourt bar, and says, gracious greetings. She just looks at him, and he asks if something undesirable has transpired. She tells him, you could say that, and he says he certainly doesn’t want to push, but if she’s inclined to share… She says she just ruined her relationship.

Carly asks if Drew still thinks about the Peter thing, and he says, yeah, but he’s learning to be okay with it. Hopefully she can benefit from that experience, and prepare herself. Esme has wronged people she cares about, but it may not be her who puts her right. She says, that’s hard, and he says, it is. He has to remind himself not to go so far down that rabbit hole that it wrecks the things he does have. She says, Peter’s dead, so Drew can’t chase after him, and Drew says, that’s true, but there’s always somebody, right? He could go after Victor, and he will when the opportunity arises, but he’s not going to devote his whole life to it, because it’s not going to get him anywhere. She says she feels like that’s her problem. She’s looking at the rest of her life without Sonny, and she doesn’t know what that looks like, or what that means. He says, but that’s okay. She’s got time to figure it out. She says, but she’s not figuring it out. She’s pouring her energy into everything and anything else. Josslyn, Trina, Esme, and like he said, she’s getting nowhere. Maybe it’s time to pour that energy into herself.

Spinelli says, Dante caught Sam with her hand in the proverbial cookie jar, and she says, yep. He asks how they left matters, and she tells him, with Dante saying he can’t trust her, and without trust, it won’t work. Spinelli says, he’s afraid Dante’s not wrong.

Brook walks past, and gives Chase a look. Austin asks if Chase wants to talk about that, and Chase says, not with him. Austin says, fair enough. When they had that conversation about Chase’s marriage to Willow, he had an ulterior motive, and he regrets that. For what it’s worth (🍷), that’s not the kind of behavior he wants to repeat. Chase tells Austin, he said no to Brook, which he doesn’t do often, and Austin says he can’t imagine anybody does. Chase says, it’s not just that. He insulted her without meaning to, and it’s not the first time. Maybe Brook’s decided she’s done with him. Austin asks how Chase feels about that.

Brook tells Maxie, good thing Spinelli didn’t take Austin out. Not that she’d care, but Maxie likes the guy. Maxie asks if they should talk about the guy Brook likes, and Brook says, no thank you. Chase apologized. Not just for not singing her song, but the way he rejected her. Maxie says, that’s a start. Brook makes a disgusted sound, and Maxie asks, what’s really bothering her? That Chase said no to her song, or that he didn’t do what he normally does, come running when Brook called?

Cameron gives Spencer some water, and says, Spencer has to tell Trina that he believes her. Spencer says, he can’t, but Cameron says, she knows how to keep a secret. Spencer says, it’s not Trina who he doesn’t trust. What if she tells her lawyer? Scotty is also Ava’s lawyer, and with Esme living at Windymere, he can’t risk this getting back to her and tipping her off. Cameron says, okay. What if Spencer testifies at the trial? That would be a huge blow to the prosecution. Spencer says, true, but not foolproof. They need something that will guarantee Trina walks away from these charges. Cameron says, even if it means she hates him? and Spencer says, even if. Cameron says he’s sorry for blowing up earlier, but Spencer says, don’t worry about it. Cameron’s right; he’s been an ass. Cameron says, that’s because Spencer was protecting his friend, and Spencer says, just like Cameron. Which why Trina can’t know, and neither can Josslyn.

Trina asks how they’re going to nail Esme, and Josslyn says, a taste of her own medicine? Somehow record her confessing? Trina says, to who? The only person Esme would admit it to is Spencer, and he’s already gone to the dark side. Josslyn says, there has to be a way, and Trina says, Josslyn told her at the gallery that she left Cameron at his house, and Josslyn says, yeah. Trina says, that seems weird; kind of early for them to end the night. Josslyn says, everything’s fine. There have been a couple of bumps along the way – how could there not be? – but they’re going to figure it out. Trina says, they better, because Esme can’t take one more thing from them. Josslyn stares daggers at someone sitting at the counter, and we see it’s Rory in civilian clothes. Trina asks, what’s wrong? and Josslyn says, there’s this guy who keeps staring at them. She jumps up, and stomps over to Rory, saying, excuse me. Which one of us are you looking at, the video star or the criminal mastermind?

Cameron says, no way is he keeping this from Joss, but Spencer says he has to. He knows how Joss and Trina are. They tell each other everything; this will be no exception. Cameron asks, then why tell him? and Spencer says, Cameron basically forced him into it. Cameron says, so it’s his fault now? and Spencer says, no, but Trina can’t know, and if they want to keep it that way, neither can Joss. Cameron knows the saying about too many cooks in the kitchen. This needs to be a solo operation. Cameron says, this is unfair, and Spencer says he’s sorry he put Cameron in a bad position. Cameron says, well, he’s here, and Spencer says he needs Cameron to promise; swear right now to keep this between them. Cameron says he can’t tell if this plan of Spencer’s is noble or idiotic; it’s probably both. Spencer says, he’s just trying to redeem himself, but Cameron says, or maybe he’s trying to be Trina’s sole hero. Either way, Spencer is in way over his head.

Josslyn asks if Rory got his money’s worth, and Trina runs over, saying, it’s not what Josslyn thinks. She knows him. Rory says, sorry if he was staring, and Trina says she remembers him. Mr. Invisible, the cop who gave her a soda. He says he did give her a soda, but doesn’t recall wearing his Cloak of Invisibility at the time. She says, she wanted to be alone at the courthouse, and… He tells her, he said he would be invisible. Trina introduces her friend Josslyn, and says, this is Officer… He says she can call him Rory. Josslyn says, it’s nice to meet him, and she’s so, so, so sorry. She didn’t recognize him outside the courthouse, and especially not in uniform. Rory says, it’s cool. He gets it. He’s just glad Trina has friends to look out for her. Keep your chin up, okay? He says, it’s good to see Trina, and she says, him too. He says, it was nice to meet Josslyn, and leaves. Josslyn says, oh my God. She’s had a nice life, but can the floor just swallow her whole? She just reamed a cop. Trina says, she sure did, and they hug.

Drew says, Carly seems to be handling her divorce pretty well. She chose herself. She says she did. Her life; what’s right for her. Of course (🍷) that meant letting Sonny go. It wasn’t easy, but it was right. He says, she’s a survivor in the best possible way, not pushing people down and climbing over them, just resilient. He wants to be like that. She asks, how is he not like that? If anyone has been dealt crappy hand after crappy hand, and managed to get up and keep going, it’s him. He amazes her. She would hate the whole world. She’d be a horrible, vengeful person. He says, no, she would not. She would be who she is. She asks, and who is that? but he says he’s not going there. He’s not trying define Carly Corinthos. She asks, why? and he says, because she’s undefinable.

Spinelli says, what may have felt harmless to Sam, wasn’t harmless to Dante. She says she gets that now, and he says, so tell Dante. She appreciates the stability and safety she has with Dante. Then it stands to reason, he would appreciate the same. She says she thought she was giving that to him. She wants to give that to him. He says, she will. She made one mistake. Mistakes can be rectified. She says, but what if she doesn’t get another chance?

Nina says she’s so grateful Sasha and Brando came back. They really saved the day. Sasha says, it was all Brando, and Nina says, she must be proud of him. Sasha says, she will be, once her heart stops pounding. What about Nina? It must have been terrifying. Nina says, they wanted to take her necklace, and Sasha takes her hands. She says, even if they’d succeeded, a mother’s love can’t be stolen. Brando tells Dante, it seemed like amateur hour with those two yahoos. It could be a coincidence they hit up Charlie’s. Dante doesn’t think it’s any secret that Sonny is the owner. If they cased the place, they’d know for sure. A cop signals to Dante, and Dante says he’ll be back to take their statements. Sonny thanks Brando, but Brando says, Sonny would have taken them both down. Sonny says, maybe, but he’s glad he didn’t have to. Brando says, it’s just lucky they came back, and Sonny asks why they did. Brando says, it seems trivial now, but they forgot to invite Sonny to the wedding reception Deception is throwing for them. Sonny says, it’s not trivial because he can’t wait to celebrate with Brando and Sasha. He asks if Brando thinks those crooks didn’t know his connection to this place, and Brando says, it’s possible they didn’t care.

Chase suggests post workout smoothies to Maxie and Brook, and Maxie says, unearned? Brook says, the best kind, and Maxie asks if Austin is buying. Austin says he seems to have lost his wallet. Does she want to come help him look? She goes with him, and Chase tells Brook, come on. She can tell him how it felt to hear her song performed. She says, only if he’s buying, and he says, deal.

Trina thanks Josslyn, and says she was feeling sorry for herself. But tonight, the fresh air, the French fried the epic freakout, it made her feel normal again, if even for a minute. Josslyn says, if that’s the case, she should berate strangers more often, and Trina says, maybe just Spencer. Josslyn says, Spencer doesn’t deserve Trina’s friendship, and he can forget about ever having hers again. Trina says, Josslyn doesn’t have to ditch Spencer just because Spencer ditched her, but Josslyn says, she does. her loyalty is to Trina, always, and she knows Cam feels the same way. Their days of enabling Spencer are over.

Spencer says, so that’s a no? Cameron’s not going to help him? He knows he can be a really lame friend – Cameron says, the lamest – and he’s single-handedly trying to save the day, but he really thinks he can do it. It’s a lot to ask, but Cameron needs to trust him. Cameron says, fine. Spencer wins. He won’t tell Joss. Spencer thanks him, and Cameron says, he’d better find something that exonerates Trina. This is the last time he’s sticking his neck out for Spencer. Don’t make him regret it.

Drew raises his glass, and Carly asks what they’re toasting to. He says, resilience. Something they have in common. They clink glasses, and Carly says, wouldn’t it be nice if they didn’t have to though? If life could just be easy, once in a while? He tells her, who says it won’t be? They’re just getting started, right? She says she guesses they are.

Spinelli says, Dante will come around, and Sam asks how he knows. He says, because what mere mortal could stay angry at her? and she says she hopes he’s right. He says, don’t make the same mistake he did. Let Dante know he comes first.

Sasha asks if Dante knows how much longer. She’s not feeling so hot. He says, Brando can come to the station in the morning, and give his statement then. He tells her to have a better rest of her night, and moves on. Nina says, Sasha is really shaken up, and Sasha says she could have lost Brando. After losing Liam, she doesn’t think she can survive it. Dante tells an officer to let Jordan know he’ll have an update for her when he’s done here, and the officer leaves. Dante’s phone dings, and it’s a text from Sam: I messed up. I’m sorry and I promise to do better.

Brando tells Sonny that he’s heard some chit-chat at the garage. He didn’t think it was legit, but then tonight happened. There’s a perception that Sonny’s base of power isn’t what it used to be. With only two families to make marinara sauce covering the territories, and Jason gone, up and comers are sensing an opening. Just above a whisper, Sonny says, his operation is stretched thin, even with Brick stepping up. His business is vulnerable after these two clowns. Every lowlife punk will think it’s open season. Brando asks what he’s going to do, and Sonny says, he’s going to remind everybody that he’s the boss.

Tomorrow, Chase has it covered; Laura knows Lucy is still dating her brother; Finn asks how Elizabeth can think the threat is over; and Carly tells Sonny, his enemies will smell blood in the water.
