General Hospital

Lucy tells Mac she wants to have lunch with him, Felicia, and Doc. They’re just having a friendly get together with old friends.

Chase is sorry to interrupt Anna. She says it’s her pleasure, but he says there’s nothing pleasant about it. The WSB has a lead on Obrecht.

Peter sees Ryan pretending to be Doc at the hospital. He says he’s heard Doc treats trauma survivors, and he needs help.

At the MetroCourt, Franco and Ava sit at the bar. She’s sold one of his paintings, and he guesses they’re having another truce. Ava says, a lucrative one, and gives him the check. She says there was a bidding war between collectors of the macabre. Now he can give Elizabeth her dream wedding. He toasts to dream weddings, and Ava toasts to true love.

Kiki sees Griff at the hospital, and asks if his suspension is over. He says he just came in to finish up some things. Maxie approaches, telling Kiki that she has a proposition. Griff says he’s late for a meeting, and leaves. Maxie asks Kiki if everything is okay, and she says it’s just hospital stuff. She asks what the proposition is, and Maxie asks how she’d like to appear in Crimson?

Lulu thanks Felicia for meeting her, and asks if it’s okay to record their conversation. She tells Felicia that it’s okay if she changed her mind. She knows the memories are painful. Felicia says it didn’t stop her from wanting to dig them up. She’s the sole survivor of Ryan Chamberlain’s killing spree, and she’s speaking out for those who no longer can.

Jason tells Sam that he knows about Oscar. She asks who told him, and he says he ran into Oscar on the pier. He was upset, so he let Oscar talk. Sam asks if Oscar told Jason that he’s dying. Jason says Oscar walking in on a meeting between his parents and the oncologist. He feels betrayed. It’s his life and he felt his parents had no right to keep the truth from him. Sam says, he has a point. Jason says it took a while to calm him down, but he got Oscar to call his parents. Sam says Oscar is lucky he ran into Jason.

Chase tells Anna that he got a message from Robert to pass along. She wonders why Robert would call Chase, and he says he’s the PCPD liaison for the WSB. Robert couldn’t reach herm and asked him to deliver it in person. Anna sees she missed a message and a text. She tell him, go on, but he says he’s not privy to the details; it’s outside the PCPD jurisdiction. She says she’ll call back, and find out who the operative is. She apologizes for being curt. It’s her exasperation with Robert. It’s like old times.

Maxie tells Kiki it took guts to take on David, and they want to showcase her power in a fashion spread, along with an article, and celebrate her strength and beauty. Kiki doesn’t know if that’s the way to go, but Maxie says she spoke truth to power. Crimson wants to show that beautiful women aren’t subject to harassment. Kiki made a bold, inspirational choice; a public choice. Let Crimson honor her.

Felicia tells Lulu that people go on about the murders like it was Ryan’s great achievement, but the man was evil. He’s dead, and deserves to be forgotten. Lulu promises to make sure the public knows the names of the victims, and gets a sense of who were. Felicia is concerned about a monster becoming a pop icon, but Lulu says the purpose is to take away the mystery. Felicia says they want to dive into his psyche like he should be somebody. He would love the attention.

Maxie tells Kiki it’s a powerful message that needs to be heard and seen. She can make an impact on women suffering the same battles day in and out.

Peter tells not-Doc that he just needs a prescription for something to sleep without nightmares. Maxie joins them, and says she hopes not-Doc is giving him help. She asks if he told not-Doc about the panic attack. Not-Doc says he had no idea Peter was so important to Maxie. Peter says he’s not, and its complicated. Not-Doc says Maxie’s mother is one of his oldest, dearest friends. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Felicia. He says he’ll be happy help Peter sort out his demons, and tells him to make an appointment. He can’t write a prescription without a session. There, they’ll determine the best plan of attack. He excuses himself, saying he’s meeting Mac and Felicia for lunch. Maxie asks Peter if he’s still having panic attacks, or is he trying to get a prescription for other reasons? What’s going on?

Lulu tells Felicia that she wants to help. She can’t stop the avalanche of media attention, but was hoping if Felicia maps out what she’s going to say, they’ll get ahead, and she’ll be protected. Felicia asks how Lulu can protect her, and Lulu says she’ll print it word for word, the way Felicia wants. Felicia says she has to go meet Mac and Doc for lunch, but she wants Lulu to know she’s not Ryan’s victim. He came after her, but he didn’t get her. He lost, and she won. He’s dead, and she survived. She gets to have the life he tried to take from her, and she’ll never be his victim again.

Lucy tells Mac the old gang is getting together; like the good old days. Mac says, very old, and Lucy says, and very good. It’s been a while, and Doc needs their company. She got the weirdest vibe, and didn’t like it. Laura should be there; she’s been gone a long time. She thinks Doc is feeling the effects of her absence. It’s up to them to life his spirits.

Franco asks if Ava is still licking her wounds. She says they’re fresh wounds; her daughter’s claws are sharp. She went to make amends, and tells Kiki that she means more to her than any man could. Franco says, impressive, and asks how she screwed it up. When she got there, Kiki was half-dressed, along with Griff. Her boyfriend just moved in down the hall. The one night mistake keeps going.

Kiki asks Griff if he’d like to go to lunch. He’s been there for her, and she wants to be there for him. He says, Maxie seemed excited; what did she want? Kiki says she had a crazy idea to do a fashion spread with her. A powerful women in powerful clothes follow-up to #GHTOO. Griff thinks it’s a good idea, but she says she has a hard enough time being taken seriously at work. He says she doesn’t have to choose. He thinks she should do whatever she wants, but doesn’t think she should hide how beautiful she is. They decide to meet at the MetroCourt.

When Chase is gone, Finn says Anna is going after Obrecht, isn’t she. She tells him the WSB is capable. She’s not interfering. She just got back from a kidnapping. Finn says he was there. He tells her Cassandra is out there, but she says the drugs have probably worn off, and she’s in a coma again. Finn says she wants to do this herself, and she says he’s right. It will make her crazy if someone else finds her. He says he’s coming along, but she says he has his patients. He says his father’s life isn’t at risk; hers is. She asks him not to make her sneak out. Peter could be in danger, and she’d like Finn to keep an eye on him. They kiss.

Sam says it’s great that Oscar can talk to Jason. He doesn’t know how much good he did. The kid has more questions than answers. Sam says he’s not comfortable, and when he does something uncomfortable and supportive, he acts like it’s an accident. She hopes he knows giving Oscar a safe place to talk about hard stuff is a gift. He says he promised not to tell anyone, and Sam says Kim kept the truth from Oscar, and now the instinct is to keep the truth from everyone else. Jason says he gave his word; he has to keep it. Sam says it’s tearing him up, and eventually everyone who loves Oscar will find out, and be heartbroken.

Griff visits Anna, and tells her that he had to hand off patients at the hospital. It’s been a rough month or so. His access to sacraments was revoked. The monsignor believed he was performing duties related to the priesthood after he gave up the collar. She asks if she can help, but he doesn’t think so. He was leaving the hospital when it hit him. He’s without an occupation or a vocation. He didn’t know where to go, so he came there. He knows he kept the information that Peter was Faison’s son from her. She wishes he’d told her, but she can’t resent him looking out for Peter. He says sometimes he thinks he’s doing the right thing, and it tuns out to be a bigger mistake. His moral compass is spinning.

Peter is grateful for Maxie’s help, but they don’t work together anymore. Maxie says, he’s asking her to stay out of his life? Where has she heard that before?

Chase sees Finn at the hospital, and Finn asks, what’s going on? Chase he’s been given a tiny window to see into how Finn felt when his mom got sick. He feels better knowing Finn is the one taking care of dad. He thanks Finn.

Not-Doc sees Lucy and Mac sitting at a table, and Ava at the bar. He says Ava is as beautiful as ever. She turns around, and he apologizes, saying from the back, she looked like Felicia. Franco gives him the side-eye.

Lulu complains to Maxie that she can’t get into the medical records archive to look into Ryan, and Maxie tells her it’s not a library. Lulu says she needs a legal release from the next of kin. She hates bothering Doc, but she met with Felicia who had a great take on the story. Maxie wants to know about the confab between her and Peter. Was Lulu telling him to avoid her?

Franco introduces not-Doc to Ava, who says they’ve met. He apologizes for the mistake. Felicia comes in, and hugs him, saying they have so much to catch up on. Lucy runs up. She’s tells them she’s so excited, and grabs not-Doc, taking him to the table. Ava asks what’s up with Doc. Is he self-medicating? Franco says they all have their own medicines.

Felicia tells them about Lulu wanting to interview her about Ryan. Not-Doc says he thought that was a difficult subject, and Lucy thinks it should be put in the past. Mac says, serial killers are all the rage now. Not-Doc says his brother had a special kind of genius, and Lucy says, evil genius. But everything he lacked in kindness, compassion, and being human, Doc made up for. Felicia says it sickens her. He was a sick, empty shell of a human, but she’s now living the life he tried to take. She doesn’t have to worry about him touching her again. Not-Doc takes her hand, and it’s a pretty creepy moment.

Lulu tells Maxie that she didn’t tell Peter to avoid her specifically. Maxie asks what she did say specifically, and Lulu says she told him that his constant presence was muddying the water, and to stay as far away as possible. Let her live her life. Maxie appreciates Lulu’s intentions, but tells her, butt out. Lulu was just trying to help, but she gets it. They’re Maxie’s waters to muddy, and she’s not even dipping her little toe in.

Finn sees Peter at the hospital, and tells him that Anna has already packed a bag, and is going after Obrecht. Peter is surprised, and Finn thought Anna told him. He says she left a voicemail, but he hasn’t had a chance to check it out. He asks if there aren’t any other agents, and Finn says she’s the only one determined to protect him. How many times does she have to risk her before it’s okay? He wants to know when she can quit making amends.

Anna tells Griff she’s made worse mistakes than he has. She asks if he’s ever committed treason. She has, and should have been before a firing squad. They have people in their lives that they love, and their mistakes hang over them. Maybe she’s committed crimes, but she’s still done good, and tries to hang on to that. He says she’s saved more people than she’s hurt, and she says, so has he. He asks what he’s supposed to do? Wait and see? She says, even if the worst happens, his life isn’t over. He’s made big changes. He left the priesthood, and had a relationship; a whole one, with a beginning, middle, and end.  Who’s to say a seismic shift wasn’t what he needed. He says she’s comparing his life to an earthquake, and she says, after an earthquake, you rebuild. They’ve both been running away from things they should have been running toward. He should stop and look around at life. See where he’s at. He says he feels lost, and she says he’s not. He’s still the same generous, giving person he’s always been. He’s dedicated his life to serving others. Maybe it’s time he just stopped for a minute and figures out what he wants back from the world. He says, how? and she says he needs to ask himself what he should be running toward.

Ava tells Franco that Kiki took Griff’s side while he said horrible things. She shouldn’t have listened to Julian. Franco asks if she’s just figuring that out now. She says, no more. She’s washing her hands of her daughter. Kiki walks in, and Ava says, speak of the devil. She says, isn’t this cozy? and Franco says, great timing. Ava wonders if living down hall isn’t good enough for them to see each other. Franco tells her this isn’t a good idea. Griff thinks they should leave, but Kiki isn’t running, and tells him, let’s take a seat.

Peter calls Anna, and leaves a message to stay safe. He sees Maxie, and says there’s a lead on Obrecht. Maybe she should warn Nina in case Obrecht wants to throw her under the bus about the kidnapping. Maxie says Obrecht wants him dead. What if she comes back to finish the job? Is he safe?

Sam says Monica has lost so many people she loves, and she and Oscar have bonded.  It’s going to devastate her. Jason says she’s right. He has to be present, especially for Monica. Sam say she was terrified when Danny was sick, but she knew he’d be okay. She had that instinct, and she was right. She doesn’t know what Drew and Kim are facing is like. What it’s like to know there’s no cure.

Ava tells Franco that Kiki is trying to deliberately humiliate her in public. He tells her to let the martini do its job. She says she’d need more than one; more like five. He says she and Kiki love each other, and will remember that at some point, but she doesn’t think so; not this time. Her daughter is sleeping with the man she loved, and is rubbing her face in it. She knows what she’s doing, and knows there will be retribution. Anyone who hurts her, gets hurt in return. They’ll see who’s left standing. Whatever happens, Kiki asked for it.

Anna sees Finn at the hospital. She has him to thank, and shows him her phone. He asks if she means her calling plan or phone; both are not his first choice. She says she got a message from her son telling her to stay safe. It’s genuine concern. He says he’s come a long way from trying to shoot her. Not baby steps; leaps and bounds. She kisses him, and he says it wasn’t sufficient, but she’s not making out in the hall. She says they’re finally standing still long enough not to run away from each other. They kiss some more.

Peter doesn’t know if anyone is safe with Obrecht on the loose. Maxie tell him she’s pretty sure she is. Anna is going after Obrecht. She would do everything and anything to protect Peter. He doesn’t know if Obrecht still wants him dead, but better safe than sorry. Maxie knows Obrecht cares in a special way about her, James, and Nina, and has a frenemy bond with Anna. She would never admit it, but it’s there. She asks Peter to let her know if he hears anything, and she’ll pass it along to Nina.

Lucy is determined to lift not-Doc’s spirits. She says Felicia showed her an adorable picture of James. Not-Doc seems puzzled at the name, and Lucy says he’s Felicia’s grandson. She tells him that he only gets like this when he’s coming down with something. Felicia suggests they cut the lunch short. If he is coming down with something, she doesn’t want to risk it with the baby. They’ll do this another time. She and Mac leave. Lucy tells not-Doc while Laura is away, he’s been working himself ragged. She’s going to get him back on track. She knows when he’s not himself.

Jason tells Sam maybe they can do something at the Quartermaine’s this weekend. Bring the kids, and spend the afternoon with Monica. Sam says Danny should like it too. Why do they keep doing this to themselves? Having to be reminded of how precious time is, and spending every moment afraid to lose who they love. He says they have to find balance. She tells him that she doesn’t him for granted, and he says he doesn’t take her for granted either.

On Monday, Nina can’t get past the thing with Peter, Mike talks to Carly, and Margaux tells Jason that Sonny pulled the trigger and his father helped clean it up.

September 21, 2018 – Two Huge Reveals, They’re Back (Almost), Dorit is a Horrible Person, Quoteadic & Spicy Weekend

General Hospital

Cameron flashes back to overhearing Franco tells Drew he’s sorry about Oscar. Oscar and Josslyn are sorting some clothes for charity, and Josslyn tells Oscar they can do something later. Cameron says Oscar may not have a later.

Drew visits Franco. He tells Franco, judging from his message, Elizabeth must have told him about Oscar. Franco offers Drew a drink and a hug; like, a super manly hug. Drew thinks he’ll just take the booze.

Elizabeth and Kim talk about Oscar and Cameron’s fight. Kim says the boys have gotten the same assignment, sorting clothing. Elizabeth says they’ve made up, so what could go wrong?

Sam is at the bar, and Margaux sits next to her. Sam asks if it’s been a long day, and Margaux says, it’s getting longer. A DA’s job is never done.

Chase gives Jordan a file, saying they’ve confirmed the ID on the body. She wonders why he’s still at work, and asks if he isn’t having dinner with his brother and Anna.

At the MetroCourt, Finn suggests he and Anna go somewhere else. She says they’re waiting for his brother. Finn says he’s late; maybe he had to go on a call. Anna says he’ll be there.

Jason tells Sonny that they can get ahead of the investigation. Is he sure he doesn’t know anything else? Sonny says he was green. Skully gave him a name, and he took care of it. He didn’t ask questions. It doesn’t matter, since the one thing that connects the body to him is the gun.

Josslyn asks what Cameron is talking about. He says if Oscar’s mom reports the fight, they could both get suspended. He says Oscar just landed a lucky shot, and Oscar says, so much for the apology. Cameron thought they were cool. Oscar says they are; except Cameron kissed his girlfriend.

Elizabeth doesn’t think Cameron will be messing with Oscar again, and Kim asks if she told Cameron that Oscar is sick. Elizabeth says, absolutely not. But she did tell someone else.

Franco gives Drew a beer. He says Elizabeth must be hiding the booze from Cameron. He wishes he could give Drew better advice. He tells Drew they don’t have to talk. Drew feels like saying it out loud draws it closer. He just recently found he has a son, and now he’s being taken away.

Anna says if Finn is getting worked up about it, why did he invite Chase to dinner? He explains they did half-cups of coffee, and were working toward a full cup. Chase got excited, and said, what about dinner? Now it’s turned into a two-hour meal. Anna says she’ll make three if he doesn’t knock it off. He asks for a side of awkward pauses. He tells Anna relating to others isn’t his strong suit, and Anna says he’s charming when he wants to be. Chase is a good person. Finn says Chase likes him too much. He treats Finn like a hero; it’s uncomfortable. Chase reminds him of someone, and he’ll leave it there. Finn’s father walks in.

Jordan tells Chase he’s going to be late for dinner, but he says it’s a breaking case. She says it’s over thirty years old, and this is hardly a smoking gun. She was under the impression that he wanted face time with his brother. Chase says Finn has shot him down so many times, he feels like this is his last shot and might go straight to hell. Jordan says it will if he doesn’t show up. She’s going to get to know the victim, Vincent Marino.

Jason tells Sonny that he’ll call Spinelli to see what he can find out. They can figure out what the ties are to Skully. Sonny is worried about his dad, and Jason says he had nothing to do with the death. Sonny says he moved the body. If they can prove Mike was involved, he’ll go to Pentonville. Jason says Mike is sick, but Sonny says it didn’t stop them before when he took Avery. It’s not just the guilty who go to prison.

Sam tells Margaux that she has kids, and tries to limit her work time. Margaux says her father owns Charlie’s Pub, and Sam says father is a funny word. It’s not how she describes him. Margaux says her sister Kristina works there now, like Sam doesn’t know, and Sam says, so? Margaux says there’s not much love lost between Sonny and Julian. She has a lot of questions for all of them, including Sam’s ex. She means Jason, not Drew.

Finn asks his father what happened to Berkeley? His father says Berkeley isn’t a cage; they let him out. Finn introduces him to Anna, who he tells to call him George. He hopes she allows him to disabuse (a new word for me!) what Finn has said about him. She says, so far, he’s charming. Finn says they’re waiting for someone, and asks if George set it up. Chase arrives.

Sam tells Margaux, everyone wants to talk to Jason; take a number. Sam asks if she has something against him, and Margaux says she has something against anyone with a career in organized crime. Margaux wonders why he’s not more like his twin. Drew knows how to make a positive contribution to the world. Sam tells her to leave Kristina alone, and if she has something to ask Jason, ask it herself.

Sam leaves, and Margaux’s phone rings. Jordan tells her to get her dinner to go. She has something Margaux will want to see.

Sonny tells Jason that the only way they’d have a case against him or his father, is if the find the gun.  Jason thinks if Mike was covering-up, he wouldn’t leave the gun with the body. Sonny needs confirmation. Maybe they can circumvent any evidence to connect them. Not just him. The thought of his father doing down breaks his heart.

Josslyn says, Cameron apologized, they said it’s over, so it’s over. They’re supposed to be doing this for charity. Cameron decides to work on the other side of the room, and Josslyn asks Oscar if it’s her, or is Cameron acting weird? Oscar says weird is normal for Cameron, but he does seem off.

Kim can’t believe Elizabeth told Franco. Elizabeth says it wasn’t her intention, and Oscar won’t find out from them; she promises. Kim says Elizabeth promised to keep her confidence. Elizabeth said she told Kim she wouldn’t volunteer the information, but she wouldn’t lie. Franco knew something was going on. She couldn’t keep it from the man she loves and trusts. She tells Kim that she can trust Franco. Kim says she has no other choice.

Franco asks Drew if there’s nothing the doctors can do. Drew says he’s still getting up to speed. They’re meeting with Terry tonight, so there might be hope. Franco asks how he can help, and Drew says, listening is good. It helps him organize his thoughts about what to do next about Oscar. He doesn’t know he’s sick. Kim has her reasons for not telling him. She mostly doesn’t want his time left to be clouded. He agreed not tell Oscar until after his birthday, but he thinks it’s not fair to delay it. He doesn’t know if he has the right to intervene; he hasn’t even been in Oscar’s life for a year. Franco says, what difference does that make? He loves his kid, and his kid loves him. Drew asks how he tells his kid that he might be dying?

Chase asks George if their mom came, but he says she couldn’t make it. George congratulates Chase on his detective job. He was hoping to see Chase in action, and asks if there’s any chance for a ride along. Finn says Chase shouldn’t have ambushed him, but Chase says he had no idea their father was coming. George says he meant to surprise both of them. He’s staying there, and came down for something to eat, and saw Finn and Anna. Anna says its not unheard of for a father to visit his son. George says it’s not entirely a social visit.

Jordan tells Margaux that they have an ID on the victim, and he’s connected to Skully, who’s connected to the gangland shooting. Margaux asks what else she knows. Jordan says not all the records have been digitized, but the victim was Skully’s criminal defense lawyer, Vincent Marino. She asks if the name rings a bell.

Sam goes to Sonny’s house. Jason asks if she’s looking for him, and she says it involves them both. She ran into the DA, and she made it clear she’s gunning for them.

Drew asks what Franco thinks he should do. Franco says Drew asking for his advice is a first. He tells Drew they have the unique perspective of ignorance. The understand the benefits of not knowing. Wouldn’t Drew’s life be better if he didn’t know about Jason? Franco says if he didn’t know about Harvey and what he put him through, he’d be skipping through life with no cares. Drew says even when he didn’t know he wasn’t skipping. Franco says sometimes the truth sucks. He can let Kim tell Oscar in her own time, but he’s Oscar’s dad. If Drew was in Oscar’s position, would he want to know the truth?

Kim tells Elizabeth, until few days ago, no one knew. Now the number is growing. How long until the wrong person says the wrong thing? Elizabeth says the alternative is that she and Drew tell him, and Kim says they’re going to after his birthday. She knows what she’s doing; it’s worked so far. Elizabeth says, more people knowing can make it easier. She doesn’t have to carry it by herself. She has friends to share it with – if she’ll let them.

Oscar picks up a box, and Cameron says he’ll take it; Oscar was just in the hospital. Oscar says he can do it, and Cameron says he’s just trying to help. He drops the box, and Oscar says thanks for the help. Cameron calls him a jerk, and before it can escalate, Josslyn asks Oscar to pick up a box outside. Josslyn asks Cameron if everything is okay at home. He asks what she means, and she wonders if he’s in more trouble for the shoplifting than he told her, or is there new family drama? He says, everything is fine, and she tells him that he’s acting weird. Cameron insists he isn’t; Oscar is. Josslyn says he isn’t, and Cameron asks, why Oscar is lying to her then?

Franco asks Drew if he wasn’t Oscar, what would he do? Drew says skydive; grab Oscar and Scout and see the world. He’d fill every moment with family, and make things right with Sam, but they’re not talking about him. Franco says, what kind of a list would Oscar make? Drew says, Oscar wants to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. When Kim told him, she pointed out he’s just a kid, and it might send him into a spiral’ it’s overwhelming. Franco says the kid is half Drew’s, and he’s never let anything overwhelm him.

Kim thanks Elizabeth for reaching out. She asks Elizabeth to keep Oscar’s illness a secret, so he can live a little longer, having a normal life. Elizabeth says when he realizes Kim has been keeping it from him, he’s going to feel betrayed. Kim says it’s a small price to pay for Oscar to enjoy life instead of sitting in a cancer ward. She made a decision to prioritize his quality, rather than quantity, of life. She’d make the same decision again in a heartbeat.

Josslyn tells Cameron If anyone lied, it was her. She didn’t tell Oscar about the shoplifting, and pushed him away. He’s kind and supportive, and a good person. Cameron says he must have missed Oscar’s halo. Josslyn says he’s not perfect. He overreacted to the stupid kiss, and it wasn’t right to pick a fight, but she’s gotten worse cuts skiing. Why can’t it be over? Cameron says it is for him; Oscar keeps bringing it up. Josslyn asks if it’s payback, and what is Oscar lying about anyway. Cameron says the fight was one sided; it was a sucker punch.

Sam tells Jason and Sonny that Margaux was using Jason’s case file as bait. Margaux was playing her, and wanted her to know. She has her eyes on Sonny, and the people connected to him. She asks if it has anything to do with the explosion at Charlie’s. What actually happened? She doesn’t need details; she trusts them, but they need to watch their backs. Margaux isn’t fooling around. If anything happens, they won’t be the only ones paying the price.

Jordan asks if Margaux has heard of him, and Margaux says they should review what they know. The body was revealed after the explosion in a pub owed by Julian. Julian didn’t live in Port Charles then, and Charlie Delaney previously owned it, at the time of the approximate date of Vincent’s death. Charlie associated with Frank Smith, and Skully mentored Sonny.

George says he’s had a fever, rash, and aches, but it’s nothing to worry about. Anna says, it’s not nothing. It’s easy to ignore symptoms, but they’re an indication something is wrong. He says his wife agrees, and made him promise to seek out the best infectious disease specialist in the country – and here he is, looking at him. Finn doesn’t think he can treat his father due to ethical issues. George says there’s nothing illegal about it, and Finn says, unethical. They’re history could color his treatment. Chase asks if he’s going to nick an artery or overdose their father. Are things so bad he might make a mistake? Finn says, no, and Chase says there’s no good reason to deny him care then. Is Finn going to help their father or not?

Oscar comes back, and asks Josslyn if everything is okay. She says she thinks Cameron is just in a bad mood. Maybe it’s something with his family. She leaves to ask a question about the clothing, and Oscar approaches Cameron. He says Josslyn is his girlfriend, and Cameron’s friend. Can they try to get along, or at least pretend to? Cameron says he doesn’t get along with liars. Unless Oscar plans to come clean to Josslyn, it’s a hard pass.

Drew goes to Kim’s office. She tells him that he’s early, and he says he thought they could. Talk. She gives him a file Terry sent over about a cancer drug trial that ended last year drug. It was promising, but turned out to be a failure. Terry wants them to be realistic. Drew says he needs something from her.

Jordan says Mike’s sheet is peppered with little cons here and there, and Margaux says he had a gambling problem. Maybe he took a loan from Skully. Maybe Skully didn’t want payback in cash, and provided a weapon. Mike knew Charlie, and knew he could hide the body. Jordan wonders why Skully would use someone outside the family, and Margaux says, someone not connected could never give up names; he cold trust Mike. Jordan says they can make up stories, but it doesn’t bring them any closer to the truth. Besides, Mike has Alzheimer’s. Margaux says he took pains to remind them. Jordan says it’s not a good look for the commissioner to undercut the DA, and Jordan says it’s not a good look for the DA to take advantage of an infirm old man. His illness is documented, and any statement would be inadmissible. Margaux says if they don’t get it from him, they’ll get it from someone else.

Sonny tells Sam that he knows the DA is clear about coming after him. His phone rings, and he says it’s a blocked number; guess who? Jordan tells him that he’s on speaker. She and the DA have questions. Can he come down to the station? He says it’s late in the day, and she says they can come to him. Does he think it will disturb his father? He says he’ll be there shortly and ends the call. Jason says Diane is out of town, but Sonny says she’s just going on a fishing expedition; he doesn’t need a lawyer. Jason offers to come along, and Sonny tells him to hold down the fort. He knows better than to give anything up.

George apologizes to Finn, saying he meant the conversation to be private. He didn’t mean to guilt Finn into helping. Chase says he’ll help. He took an oath as a doctor, and their mom wants him to do it. Anna thinks it might be a good idea to revisit the subject tomorrow, in Finn’s office. Finn gives George him number, and tells him to call and they’ll make arrangements. George thanks him, and Finn says, think nothing of it.

Sam asks if Jason can do something for her, and Jason says, of course. She wants him to make plans with Danny; spend as much time as he can with him. Jason says he does, but he can squeeze in more. He asks if she wants to talk about it, but Sam says, no. He tells her that Charlie’s Pub isn’t on him, and nothing can take him away from Danny. She says he doesn’t know that; no one does. In an instant, it all changes. She asks for one more favor, if he can. She knows he and Drew have their differences, but if there’s a way for them to make peace, try. He asks what she’s trying to tell him.

Drew tells Kim he won’t hide the truth, and she says he agreed. He says he made a mistake. She tells him it’s not that long, just until his birthday. He says, it’s Oscar’s life. He should decide how he lives it. He’s like for them to tell him together, but if he has to, he’ll do it alone.

Oscar asks Cameron why he’s why being an ass. Cameron says Oscar’s an ass; he’s being unfair. Oscar doesn’t know what Cameron is talking about, and wonders if he’s up to a new strategy to come between him and Josslyn. Cameron asks why Oscar doesn’t just tell her he has cancer.

Jordan tells Sonny to sit, and he says, that long. Margaux says it depends. Jordan says the ID for the remains is Vincent Marino. Sonny pretends to consider this, and says he thinks the guy used to play shortstop for the New York Yankees. The name means nothing. Margaux says it means something to her. He was her father.

Well that was a one-two punch.

On Monday, Oscar asks Cameron not to tell, Margaux wants to nail the SOB who killed her father, and Sonny asks Mike to tell him everything he remembers.

General Hospital

Curtis is having a drink with Drew at the MetroCourt, but has to leave for a meeting. Drew says he’s not in the mood to celebrate. Curtis asks how he found out; was he snooping? Drew says, not snooping. He was hungry, went to the kitchen, and saw the cake, It’s a great cake; three layers. Curtis says a three-layer cake would piss him off too. Drew says he appreciates it, but doesn’t like to be the center of attention. Curtis tells him, suck it up, and let those who love him, love on him. He’s worth it. Curtis says, happy birthday. Have fun and act surprised.

Monica and Kim are on the patio, where Monica is putting last minute touches on the party. She’s sorry Ned and Olivia can’t be there, but glad the rest of them will be. Kim thanks Monica for inviting her and Oscar. Sam arrives.

In the elevator, Maxie tells Peter that she’ll talk to Olivia. She’d talk to Carly, but she’s distracted. She’s surprised Olivia didn’t notice. The elevators are slow during peak hours. They should take that into consideration and add more elevators. The elevator jerks to a stop.

Valentin thanks Curtis for meeting him; he’s eager for an update. Curtis doesn’t want to waste Valentin’s time. If he gets something concrete, he’ll tell him. Valentin says they need to find Nina’s daughter as soon as possible. Curtis says not them, him. Then Valentin can deliver the information to Nina in hopes of saving his marriage.

Nina meets a man named Amit at the MetroCourt. He understands she wants an appraisal. She asks what he can tell her whatever he knows about this, and shows him the necklace. I just have to say it, they couldn’t have found something that looked more expensive? This was bought at Target for sure.

Margaux asks if Jordan found something to identify the body, and Jordan says, not quite, but it will put them on the right trail. Forensics got the remains of a bullet out of a bone. Margaux isn’t sure that will shed light on the body, but it might get them closer to identifying the killer.

Sonny asks Carly how his dad is. Carly says, like him, pretending everything is fine when it’s not. She doesn’t want to have the conversation any more than Sonny, but she loves him, and has to be straight with him. Things are adding up. When Mike took off with Avery; what happened with the alarm; and now Charlie’s. All of them could have ended in a tragedy. She thinks they’re running out of time. They can’t keep it up. She knows that Mike knows, and she thinks Sonny knows too.

Nina asks what he can tell her, and he says there’s no signature marking; at least nothing familiar. Nina asks if it was made to look like it was divided, or is it part of a whole piece. Amit says, it appears to be half of a larger piece; an original heart pendant divided. Nina says she has to find who has the other half.

Valentin tells Curtis, it’s a win-win. Curtis will find Nina’s daughter for her, and be paid handsomely. If it’s too much, he can find someone else do it. Curtis says he’ll do it for Nina, but Valentin had better not hold any of the information against her. He says there’s been a development. He’s been working a new angle, and his forensics accountant’s trace on the transfer worked. There’s no telling what will come of it. It’s twenty years old; it still may end up going nowhere. That’s why Curtis was waiting to tell him. Valentin says he’s anxious to let Nina know. In that soap way of how things work, Nina is suddenly there and says, let me know what?

Jordan says she’ll get an answer from ballistics soon. Margaux says she’s optimistic. Jordan can’t promise anything, but she’s got a good team. They can see if the bullet matches anything used in another crime. Margaux says tell her more about Charlie’s. Jordan says it’s connected loosely to Frank Smith Margaux says maybe they can connect him to the history of the body, and Jordan calls for his file to be pulled.

Sonny asks if Carly really wants to do this right now. She asks if he honestly believes this is working. He says he just has to figure it out; he needs more time. Carly asks, how much? Mike has been with them for months. They keep making arrangements, but things happen; big things. Now Julian is involved. Sonny says Julian isn’t going to say anything. He understands Sonny would do anything to keep his father safe. Carly asks if he really thinks he is.

Monica asks Sam where the kids are. Sam says Danny is at a breakfast, and wonders where Michael is. Monica says he wasn’t feeling it, and Sam tells her Scout is upstairs napping. Monica leaves to peek in. Kim says she feels bad for what Michael is going through. Sam says they just need to be there for him and listen. It’s unimaginable. Kim says it sounds like she’s speaking from experience, and Sam says she is. She tells her about Lila being stillborn, and says a foolish woman said she was lucky to never have known her. It would have been worse if she’d started a relationship. Kim says, that’s horrible. Sam says the words came back in her head when Danny was diagnosed with leukemia. She tells Kim that he’s fine now, with no traces of the disease; miracles happen. Sam says, she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to… Kims says, didn’t mean to what? and Sam says, nothing. Kim says she knows, doesn’t she? Sam says Drew told her. She’s so sorry. Kim does not look happy.

Sonny says everything he does is to protect his father, and Carly says he’s gone above and beyond, but she doesn’t think it’s working. Sonny says when he makes a mistake, he tries to fix it. Carly says he can’t fix what’s wrong with Mike. She loves him too, and wants what’s best for him. Sonny needs to decide while Mike still can. Sonny tells her Mike has already said he doesn’t want to be a burden, and Carly says he’s been clear about that. Sonny is wonderful with his dad, but he’s missing something important. He needs to take Mike at his word, and let him go. Mike hears the conversation.

Sam tells Kim that she could tell something was wrong. Drew didn’t want to, but finally told her Oscar’s prognosis. Kim says it’s none of her business. Sam says Drew was a wreck; he needed to talk to someone, and he trusts her. Kim can too. She’s sorry. They’re a family; their kids are siblings. If they need anything, Sam is there for her. Kim says they’re fine. Monica runs in, saying Drew is early.

Drew comes toward the patio. Monica, Sam, and Kim grab balloons and yell, surprise! He fake smiles.

On the phone, Maxie tells Olivia, tell the elevator guys to hurry. She has a meeting, and they’re stuck between eight and nine. She tells Peter the elevator company is on the way; there’s no need to freak out. She isn’t. He starts hyperventilating. He hits some buttons, and she says they shut the elevator down. They need to work on it for an hour – or less.

Nina tells Valentin, keeping secrets as usual. She doesn’t care. She needs to talk to Curtis about a pressing matter. Curtis leaves with Nina.

Nina describes a man in the bar to Curtis, and says he’s following her. (He bumped into her earlier.) She asks if Curtis thinks she’s paranoid, and he says no, judging from what appears to be a firearm in his jacket. He tells Nina, stay cool; he’s got it. He throws the guy against the bar, and the guy says he has a permit to conceal. Nina says she calls it being stalked. She’s calling the police. Curtis looks at his ID, and tells her, hold on. He’s a bodyguard. Nina asks, for who? and the guy says her. Nina says she didn’t hire a bodyguard, and Valentin says he did.

Maxie asks Peter if he’s okay; he seems a little not okay. Does he have a thing about being confined? Usually he’s so in control. He says this is new for him, and continues hyperventilating. Maxie wonders if him being tied to a bed for weeks has something to do with it, and he says, could be. He unbuttons hi shirt, saying he doesn’t feel like he can breathe. Maxie tells him the air is fine; it’s not hermetically sealed. She suggests they sit and try breathing; in through the nose, out through the mouth. She says the last time they were breathing together, she was on the side of the road in labor. This should be a piece of cake. He says it’s embarrassing, and she begins a breathing exercise.

Curtis tells the guy, his bad, and Valentin tells him to go. Curtis tells the patrons, everything is fine; pardon the interruption. His phone rings, and he steps away to take the call. Nina asks why Valentin hired someone to spy on her. He says he’s protecting her. It’s been brought to his attention that she has an enemy. Nina says, you can’t run a fashion magazine without occasionally stepping on Erica Kane’s toes. Valentin tells her Cassandra is on the loose.

Monica tells Drew to trust her. He might think a family birthday is a big ordeal, but he’s going to be happy looking back on the memories. Kim leaves to check on Oscar, and Sam says Scout should just be finishing her nap, so they should go. I wonder where everyone else is. Drew asks why Sam is leaving, and she says she was just planning to drop by; she didn’t think he’d want her to stay. He asks her to stick around.

Inside the Quartermaine’s, Kim leaves Oscar a message, saying she doesn’t like going to voicemail. He’s supposed to have his phone on at all times. His father showed up early, and they had to start without him. She tells him to text her, and hurry up. Drew walks in, and she asks if he was really surprised. He says he picked up on a clue or two, but didn’t want to put a damper on things. She asks if they can meet later and talk about Oscar. Nothing has changed, but they need to figure out how to communicate better. She had no idea he was going to tell Sam.

Oscar strolls on to the patio. He asks Monica if Drew was surprised. She says, yes, but it was fake. Sam asks about his hand, and he says he bumped into something. She says it looks like he was in a fight.

Margaux asks about Luke and Laura, and Jordan explains that Luke was Frank Smith’s guy. He ran a club, and did money laundering. He and Laura eventually turned Frank in for racketeering. Margaux would like to talk to them, but Jordan says they’re both out of town. She might have more success with Laura. She says she can speak with Laura’s husband; he testified for Carly. Margaux says that Sonny is on the list of Frank Smith’s known associates. Wouldn’t they have known this already? Oh, never mind.

Sonny says he’s not abandoning his father, but Carly says he’ll be honoring his father’s wishes, and taking a step to him from himself. He’s terrified he’ll hurt someone he loves. He can’t say it straight out. Mike doesn’t want to abandon Sonny. Sonny says he doesn’t know how to send Mike out of sight; it’s painful. There are a lot of options; they can come up with a plan. Carly says it’s not about him, it’s about Mike, and what he needs and wants. Sonny says what if Mike doesn’t know? Mike comes out, and says he’s wondering that right now. He has a full deck and a sound mind. Carly is right. He has to go. It’s what he wants, and it’s time.

Sonny asks how long he’s been there, and Mike says, long enough. Carly says they didn’t mean for him to hear, but he says, everything needed to be said. It’s not like it isn’t true. Sonny says, nothing is settled, but Mike says he and Carly are in agreement. He gave it his best shot; it’s time to rethink things. Sonny says he’s open to other arrangements. They could get live-in help, make him more secure. Staying there is better. He has family who love him. Mike isn’t so sure that’s a selling point. He says right now, every day, he’s losing himself, bit by bit. A little more; a little faster. Avery told Carly that her other name is Courtney, because that’s what he calls her sometimes. He wonders about the day he doesn’t recognize her. He can’t bear to think about it, and doesn’t want to cause more worry in Sonny’s own home. Carly says it’s his home too; it always will be. Sonny says he’ll always do everything keep Mike. Mike asks, at what point does a home stop being a home, and become a prison?

Kim tells Drew, the more people who know, the better the chance of Oscar finding out from the wrong person or the wrong way. Drew says that’s easily remedied by telling him the truth. She says he needs to pull it together; it’s all over his face. Sam interrupts, saying Oscar is there; they might want to come out. Don’t worry, but it looks like he’s been in a fight.

Nina says Valentin is making this up, and he tells her, ask Anna. She wanted to tell Nina, but he asked her to let him do it. Nina says, Cassandra is in custody, and he says, someone broke her out. She says, Cassandra is in a coma, and Valentin says, now she’s not. Thanks to Finn. The same people who held him and Anna in captivity, forced him to treat her. Nina wonders who would help Cassandra, and Valentin says he’d like to know himself. She says, the WSB must be on it, and he says, they lost her in the first place. Nina isn’t happy that the bodyguard reports to Valentin, so he can monitor her every move. Valentin suggests she move back to Windemere. She can have her own wing; he won’t bother her. I’m in. He needs to know she’s safe. Nina says she feels safer on the mainland. If she needs a bodyguard, she’ll hire one herself. Here he is now. Curtis returns.

Peter asks Maxie, how much longer, and she says, they’re working on it right now. She suggests they play game. Would You Rather. She asks if he’d rather lose all his money and valuables, or all his photos. He says, it’s a draw. He’s already lost all his money, and he lived; and he has no pictures. She asks why, and he says he’d need to have someone to be in the pictures. She asks if he’d rather lose short or long term memory, and he says short. Maxie says she’d be the opposite, and he says if he forgot the bad things he’s done, he couldn’t make up for them.

Curtis joins Nina and Valentin. He asks what Cassandra has against Valentin, and Valentin says they worked together long ago. She’s obsessed with him. She’s violent, and has it out for Nina. Curtis says he can hook her up with some protection, but Nina says she can take care of herself. Cassandra had better steer clear of her, or she’ll heed protection.

Peter says, there are some things in life you can’t atone for, and Maxie says, people throw that word around easily. They say it like it’s difficult to accomplish. She’s not aiming that at him, but her own experience. She’s made mistakes and hurt people. He says, way back in her horrible days? and she says it wasn’t that long ago. He says she’s come a long way. A lot of people hold her in high regard. Maybe there’s hope for him yet. She asks if he’d rather wear his shirts too big or too small, and he says, too big. She says, and hide his muscles? If you’ve got them, flaunt them. Oh brother. The elevator starts moving. Peter thanks her, and when it stops, the doors open and they fall out. Nina is like, wha-a-at?

Oscar tells Kim and Drew that they need to chill. They’re making way too much of this. Kim says he was in a fight, and Oscar says, barely. Monica says it’s not bad, and Oscar points out she does open heart surgery. Someone said something he didn’t like, and it was over in seconds. If Drew hadn’t taught him how to throw a punch, he would have gotten his ass kicked. Drew says he taught him how to defend himself, not throw a punch at whoever pisses him off. Oscar says, it’s not like anyone died. Kim says he just got out of the hospital. Monica is surprised.

Jordan says Sonny worked for Frank Smith; he ran Franks strip club, but there’s no connection. Sonny wasn’t in Port Charles at the time the body was buried. Margaux says, then their best lead is to learn who knew the pub owner and locate them. She knows where to start.

Sonny tells Mike it’s not a prison. Mike says Sonny has to listen, now, while he’s having a good moment. It’s no fun see people watching him from the edge of their seats or hovering, being totally confused about who he is. This is his reality, and he can’t stand them seeing him like this. Sonny says it’s just his pride talking, and Mike says, so what if it is? Isn’t he allowed to have some pride and dignity? Sonny asks if he thinks he’d be better off with strangers. Mike asks what happens the day he wakes up and they’re strangers? Will he understand then? Sonny says he doesn’t know how to do this. Mike says he left Sonny before, to his everlasting regret. He’d do anything if he didn’t have to leave him again, but it will happen one way or another. This way, they leave with good feelings instead of Mike just disappearing before his eyes. They’re both crying, and making me cry. Not only is Mike killing me, I’ll be very sad to see Max Gail go.

Nina doesn’t want to know. Maxie says she has the wrong idea, and follows her down the hall.

Curtis asks Valentin how much of the Cassandra situation he left out, and Valentin says he’ll worry about Cassandra. He wants Curtis to focus on Nina’s daughter. Curtis says the phone call was from his forensic accountant. The trace went through. Officially, it’s a single mother with a daughter the same age as Nina’s would be today. Well that sure narrows it down.

Monica says, you don’t go to the hospital for a headache, but Oscar says he didn’t eat, passes out, and Jason overreacted. Kim says, he acted with an abundance of caution, and she’s glad he did. Oscar suggests they cut the cake, and Monica asks him to do it. He says he’s bad at it, and doesn’t like being the center of attention (like his dad). Monica says she’ll keep that in mind when it’s his birthday – and throw an even bigger party. Do five people, including the guest, even qualify as a party? I ask again, where is everyone?

Sonny tells Mike there are places that have all-day activities, and you come home at night. He can ease into it, and they can ease into it. Mike says it sounds like a plan, but he’d still like to check out the residential facilities while he still can. He wants to have a say before he can’t. He and Sonny shake on it.

The house phone rings, and someone is at the door. Sonny tells Max to have them go away, but Carly says it’s too late. Margaux and Jordan walk in. They have questions related to the body found under Charlie’s. Sonny tells them that he’s said everything he has to say. Margaux says they’re not there to speak to him. They’re here to talk to his father.

On Monday, Oscar tells Josslyn about the fight, Robin says a hideous injustice has been done, and Cameron wants to know why Elizabeth is so interested in Oscar.

👹 The Sy – we can’t spell – Fy channel has been showing mini marathons of Z Nation on Friday mornings. Today they had one of my favorite episodes, Day One, where we see the backstories of the major characters; where they were when the apocalypse broke out. My main question was, how did Doc know what was going on so quickly? He just grabbed a bag of drugs and ran. It also unearthed (pun intended) a great quote from Addy’s story:

Zombie night? ** No. That’s next Thursday. – one hockey player to another when zombies appear at a game.

I’m hoping this is paving the way for the new season. And when will that be? Who knows? This was the latest I could find…

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Mike and Sonny watch a baseball game on TV. Sonny asks if Mike knows the new rules, but Mike says baseball is baseball. He goes upstairs, and Felix tells Sonny that they sounded like a son and his dad. Sonny guesses they did.

Jason tells Carly, one more game. They can have more time to decompress. Carly says there’s a lot going on, especially with Michael. He needs all the support he can get. It’s the worst pain a parent can experience, and he’s still dealing with the Nelle fallout. And then there’s Mike. Seeing his fear and confusion is killing Sonny, but there’s no fixing him. Jason says, not in the long run, but it helps Sonny to use the time left to be with his father. Carly says he feels like he’s getting a new shot. He has so few precious memories from when he was young.

Margaux and Drew walk into The Floating Rib. She wonders if it’s considered a second date if it’s on the same day in the same place. They sit, and she tells him, bring on the wings. Carly says, it looks like someone else is making new memories. Maybe the picture was legit – and the kiss. She tells Jason about their photo in The Invader.

On the phone, Robert tells someone to extend the search radius, and he wants an hourly report. Chase thinks they might have crossed border to Canada. He’s in touch with a local in Niagara Falls. Robert asks if he thinks they got married. Chase says he knows Robert is concerned about Anna, but Finn is his brother, and he’s just as invested. Let him help before it’s too late.

Anna asks Cassandra if she thinks it’s a bluff. One injection brought her out of a coma; one could easily close her eyes again. Cassandra says, Finn is a doctor; he took an oath. Finn says the Hippocratic Oath got a little fuzzy when she drugged him on New Year’s Eve. Anna says, is she going to cooperate, or go back to dreamland?

In the park, Julian instructs Leo on butterfly hunting, telling him that he has to let them go once he catches them. He tells Ava that he’s grateful for the brief time he gets with Leo. Who, I might add, has made an age jump. He’s like, four or five now. Ava says it’s terrible to have to be grateful, and take what you can get. Julian says think about what Brad and Lucas are going through. Ava says if the birth mother wants her son back, what can they do? Maybe she should be asking, what has he done?

Griff jogs by, shirtless, and looks at Ava. He says he didn’t mean to interrupt. Oddly enough, he didn’t interrupt until he said that. Julian says he never does. People just cross his path, and he falls into bed with them, like his niece. Ava says, sooner or later, what you’ve done catches up with you, and Griff says, what makes her think that it hasn’t? Ava suggests Julian go with Leo. She tells Griff that she thought he ran in the morning. He says he used to, before Monica suspended him for violating a patient’s rights by giving them an unauthorized DNA test. He doesn’t’ have to ask who turned him in, does he?

Chase tells Robert he doesn’t want to offend him, but he doesn’t want to be left out. Robert says they have the airports surrounded. There’s no way they can board a plane. Chase says what about smaller airports? They could get a private plane anywhere, and puddle jump to Canada. Robert says, maybe, but Finn was abducted to treat Cassandra. Chase says, and she’s in no condition to travel far. Someone went to a lot of trouble. He asks if there’s been any progress on the ID, and Robert says, no, but maybe they’re going in the wrong direction. Who has an investment in Cassandra staying in a coma. He hangs a picture of the Cassadine family crest on the bulletin board.

Cassandra says Valentin put them up to this. Anna says Valentin’s objectives are a mystery to everyone except him. Is she going to play along or does Finn take her out of the equation altogether? Finn says, goodnight, and starts to put something in her tube.

Sonny tells Felix that he spoke to Stella, and got the same message; to have a talk with his dad. He asks Felix if Mike looks like a man who should live in a facility. Felix is sure Stella meant Sonny should talk with him while he can still understand. Sonny says when he brings it up, Mike thinks he wants to get rid of him. It’s the last thing he wants to do. He loves these moments. He never had them when he was a kid. It felt good. Felix thinks it’s good for the both of them. Sonny says he’s been making the place safe and secure, and Felix says he noticed the Mike’s room sign. He can orient Mike without being obvious. Sonny says he got Mike a tracker. It has a GPS, and if he walks off the grounds, it alerts the guards. Mike comes down with a baseball glove. Felix and Sonny pretend they’re taking about a game. Mike wants to play baseball old school.

Jason asks Carly why she cares what Drew does? She says it seems like he’s getting over Sam. She hopes he knows what he’s doing. Jason says, the DA does.

Margaux asks Drew if it’s weird seeing Jason. He says it’s not like they’re best friends. She says, but he knows Jason better than anyone. It must be strange to have his memories. He says Jason told her he’s not going to turn against Sonny. Next subject. She says it’s just hard to believe. She’s interested in getting to know him, and he says she knows as much about Drew Caine as he does. He fires a bunch of questions at her, like, what’s her favorite color. She asks when a getting to know each other date turned into an interrogation. Margaux says her life reads like a resume, but Drew says, every life has a story. She says, Jersey girl, given a full ride at NYU, married the wrong guy in college. He came from a wealthy family, and had a tragic lack of imagination. She learned after they were married that all he wanted to do was maintain the status quo. She wanted more. He ended up married to a country club girl, and she went to Stanford law, and paid her dues as a DA. His turn. He says it’s hard tell her anything. His memories before 2014 are Jason’s. She says it’s hard to believe. He says since he decided he’s not getting his memories back, he accepts it. Changing the subject, he says she could have taken a job at a big firm. She asks if they really make the best margaritas here. He says they’re amazing, and goes to the bar.

Carly has a bad feeling. Jason says, that makes two of us. Margaux made it clear she’s going after Sonny, and she doesn’t care how or who she uses. Supposedly Drew remembers every job Jason did for Sonny. Carly asks if Margaux is looking for evidence against him.

Coming back inside, Sonny says it’s been a while since he played catch. He used to sit on the stoop and watch the fathers come home and grab the mitts. He stops, and Mike tells him to go on. Sonny says, then they’d go in for dinner. Mike thinks they should head to the city, and see a game at Yankee Stadium. Sonny says he used to promise that all the time. Mike says now they can do it, and Sonny says, it’s a deal.

Ava tells Griff, yeah, she told Monica, and showed her proof. She shows him her phone, and says she took a picture of the results when he was in the shower. Something told her to keep a record. He says he told her in confidence. She says she was going to delete it a dozen times, but didn’t. Something in her didn’t trust his loving words and their tender moments. She suspected it couldn’t last; that she was fooling herself. It turned out, she was right.

Cassandra tells Finn to stop. She’ll do what they want. Anna tells her to pretend she’s unconscious, and steal a look to see if she knows or recognizes them. They hear someone coming, and Cassandra closes her eyes. It’s Carson and his number two. He’s got the medication Finn wanted. Finn asks, what took so long? If it isn’t administered in time, they’ll all be dead.

Jason tells Drew that the DA is after Sonny, and she’ll use anybody – Carly, Josslyn, even him – to do it. Drew says what she wants is for Jason to flip on Sonny. She’s working hard at it. He’s sure Jason has seen the cover of The Invader.

Margaux approaches Carly. She says it’s nice to see her out and about. She’s sorry about Carly’s grandchild. It must be a comfort to have her back. Carly asks if she’s expecting a thank you, and Margaux says, not unless it’s sincere. She tells Carly that she hates injustice. That’s why she didn’t fight the judge about letting her go. She also hates defendants using bogus pleas to circumvent the law. Carly says she hates when women use sex to get information. It sends the wrong message. Or is it just a coincidence that she’s hot and heavy with Drew? Jason and Drew are both there, and Margaux asks if they should all just grab table – or not.

Sonny says it’s nice to throw the ball like they used to. Mike says it was fun, but he’s tired. He thinks he’ll lie down before dinner. They’ll do it again tomorrow. Sonny says, sounds good. Mike goes up the creakiest stairs I’ve ever heard. Felix says maybe Sonny is right, and Mike belongs at home after all. He’s holding on to the memories of them playing ball; that’s great. Sonny says, although it never happened.

Griff tells Ava that she’s fooling herself. What they had, was real. He doesn’t care that she reported him; he deserves suspension. He violated his oath. Ava tells him not to try putting the halo back on his head. She didn’t do it to protect a patient’s privacy. She figured he’d get suspended, and he’d lose something he cares about. It’s the Ava he never understood. She doesn’t want forgiveness. She wants him to hurt like she does.

Julian asks if Leo is ready to go. He asks what’s wrong, and Leo whispers something in his ear. He says his mom must have told him about his cousin in heaven. He imagines there are special toys in heaven. That’s why they picked out some of Leo’s stuff for other babies enjoy. Julian tells Leo, as special a place as heaven might be, don’t worry. He won’t go there for a long time. Neither will Julian. He hugs Leo.

Chase says, it’s the Cassadine crest, and Robert says Valentin has ties to Cassandra. Somebody thought they’d liberate her from the Bureau, but when Valentin was questioned, he seemed surprised. Maybe even worried that she’d gone missing. Chase gets a text, and says they might have a breakthrough. Whoever broke Cassandra out wants Finn to cure her. He’ll require drugs, so Chase ran a check. Someone just used Finn’s pharmacy code, north of Canada. Two cameras got shots of the car and license plates. Robert says, well done. Let’s go.

Finn says he did guess work on the dosage, but it should minimize any damage done by exposure. He holds a tray with four paper cups of liquid on it. He explains that Cassandra will get a concentrated dose, and hands out the cups, Carson says, ladies first; drink up. Anna and Finn drink, and Carson and dude follow. Carson says, that’s it? and Finn says, it’s fast acting; they should be all set. Carson and other guy keel over. Finn asks, did he happened to mention the side effects?

Finn tells Anna that they both got water. Cassandra asks if they’re dead. She says she doesn’t know them. Finn tells Anna that they need to go. Cassandra asks if they’re leaving her, and Anna says she’s better off waiting while they get help. Cassandra doesn’t want to be sent back to the WSB, and Anna says they’ll treat with the same amount of compassion that she treated them.

Felix gets a text from his relief nurse, Hugo. There’s been an accident, and he’s going to be late. Felix says he can stay, but Sonny says he’s done enough. If needs help, his people are just a phone call away. Felix says, when the time comes, he’ll know what do for his dad. Sonny hopes so. Felix leaves, and Sonny says he really hopes so.

Carly says Drew can take care of himself. Jason wonders if he’s a potential liability. Carly says, maybe not. As well as having Jason’s memories, he can draw on his abilities and skills. Jason says, knowing and using are two different things.

Margaux admits the wings pack a punch. Drew loads on hot sauce, and she accuses him of showing off. It’s in a squeezy bottle, and no surprise, he gets some on her blouse. She wonders if it’s payback, but he says it’s a slippery bottle. He says he’ll pay for the cleaning, but she thinks it’s a lost cause. She says it’s a novel way to get her out of her clothes, but he insists he’s a gentleman. They leave.

Sonny gets a call from Diane. He says he has the papers, but they haven’t been signed. The shipping rate is higher than what they settled on. He says he’ll get the papers right now. He leaves the room, and Mike comes down those creaky stairs. He asks if someone is there, and looks confused.

Griff tells Ava if it’s any consolation, he’s hurting like hell. For what he did to her and Kiki, and for the patients he cares about; the ones he’s treating and the ones he won’t get chance to help. Ava never said he wasn’t a good doctor. He says, just not a good boyfriend. She doesn’t have to worry. He’s not going to bother her anymore. Julian runs up with Leo in his arms. He thinks Leo must have fallen from a tree while chasing a butterfly, but he’s unresponsive to Julian. He asks Griff to do something.

Griff tells Leo to look at him, saying it’s scary, falling out of a tree. Julian babbles, but Griff continues talking to Leo, asking if he can breathe, and to show him. He asks Leo to hold his water bottle. I guess to make sure his grip is okay. He checks out Leo’s knee, and says it looks like it hurts, but it’s not deep. He asks Leo about the butterfly he was chasing, and suggests he stick to the ground from now on. He tells Julian that the fall gave Leo a scare, but he’ll be all right. Julian asks if Leo is really okay, and Griff says he’s currently not a licensed physician. Julian should get him checked out, but he doesn’t think Leo hit his head; he’s just shaken up. Ava says it was lucky he was there, and Julian thanks him. He says they should get Leo a security blanket, and Leo says, like the yellow one he put in Jonah’s room?

Carly tells Jason that she called Margaux out. She can’t believe it. Never mind, it could get Margaux disbarred, but it’s demeaning. Jason says, really? Carly knows she’s guilty of using sex to get what she wants, but that was before she was a mother. Jason says, it’s their business, and Carly says, what if she gets Drew to flip on him? Jason says he would need to have a really good memory. He doesn’t think Drew would help Margaux anyway. Besides, Diane is the best, and can always get him off. Carly says she’s not worried, but she’s keeping an eye on Drew. They leave.

Anna and Finn sneak around. Finn says, they’re going to be cranky when they wake up. Anna tries a door, and it’s locked. He says she’s with the WSB; can’t she use a bobby pin or something? She asks if he’s serious.

Back at the hotel, Margaux tells Drew the laundry service has pulled off miracles before. He doesn’t want the night to end like this, and asks if she wants to go for a drink. They can see who has the better margaritas. She thinks that’s a good idea, and goes to change. He looks through her papers on the table, and finds the flash drive.

Mike says, this isn’t right. He thought he heard… He looks outside and sees someone, probably a guard, walk past. He asks, who’s there? and says, they’re trying to break in. He can’t let them do that. He presses a button on the device he’s carrying, and an alarm goes off. It’s loud, and seems to be coming from everywhere. He yells, nooo!

Anna gets the door open. Robert and Chase are on the other side. Robert has his gun drawn, and says, don’t shoot. He can’t believe it’s Anna, and hugs her. Chase and Finn nod at each other. Anna asks how he found them, and he says Chase gave them luck. Finn thanks him. They all go back to the examining room. The guys on the floor are still out, but Cassandra is gone.

Cassandra sits in the back seat of a car. Someone gets in and she asks what they want from her. They place a hand on her knee, and they’re wearing a Cassadine crest ring.

Griff asks what blanket Leo is talking about, and Julian says he told Leo about packing Jonah’s things. Julian tell Griff that he owes him one, and leaves with Leo to get him checked out. Ava says sorry to keep Griff from his run, and starts to leave, but Griff stops her. He asks if the yellow blanket is the one that didn’t exist. The one Nelle and Carly were fighting over on the stairs.

Drew picks up the flash drive. Margaux comes back in, and says, don’t touch that. Drew says, why? Is it important?

Jason and Carly run into Sonny’s house. Jason’s gun is drawn. a guy from outside runs in with his gun drawn. Sonny pops out from upstairs with his gun drawn. Mike is surrounded.

On Monday, Curtis, Jordan, and Stella go to family counseling, Margaux says she’ll tell Drew everything, and Griff asks if Ava helped send Carly to Ferncliff.

💍 Keeping Up with the K-1s…

Just a quickie regarding 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, or as I like to call it, the K-1 visa, where the worst people meet. This show is so awful/good that I have to do a once-a-season dissertation about it rather than recap, but now and then I can’t help but comment. In last week’s episode, Jesse came to the US to visit the woman he’s stringing along the love of his life, Darcy, and to meet her two teenage daughters. Who, no doubt, he has more in common with, considering the huge age gap. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but he keeps bringing up that he’s only twenty-four. These two boggle my mind. They’ve been on again/off again for a couple of seasons now, and at this point, I can’t see what they get out of it. After being sorely disappointed when Jesse gave her a promise ring at the end of her trip to Amsterdam – yes, a promise ring, like middle-schoolers exchange – Darcy is still expecting a real proposal. He got down on one knee to give it to her, which turned my stomach. As much as I think Darcy is a drama queen, no woman deserves that embarrassment.

Jesse has made it clear that he doesn’t want her daughters getting too attached at this point in the relationship, and that he balks at being a stepfather at his age. Yet Darcy still pulled him in for a family hug. I get that she’s delusional and thinks he’s hot, but couldn’t he find someone to control a little closer to home? I did feel marginally sorry for him at the beginning of the trip. Deciding to stay in NYC and have her girls visit there on her birthday, Darcy and Jesse took a limo from the airport. Since it was his first time visiting the US, Jesse was naturally interested in his surroundings during the ride. There is no other way to put it other than Darcy was jealous of that interest. She did not want to play tour guide, and couldn’t understand why he wasn’t focused totally on her. She also left him sitting in a restaurant, during one of their nonsensical arguments, where she flailed around while he did his Data imitation. Or the guy from SNL’s Sprockets skit. On the other hand, he’s such a control freak, maybe he deserves what he gets. Which, according to the previews, is a lot of drama. Are they still together? Who knows? And if you wait five minutes, it will be who knows again.

👹 So When is This Happening Already???

The highlight of my week was when the Sy-we-can’t-spell-Fy channel aired reruns of Z Nation. Which tells you how my week went. Although it’s been renewed for a fifth season, all we keep hearing is in the fall.  So is that Labor Day fall or Thanksgiving fall?

December 16, 2017 – Z Nation Trifecta with Photos & a Quote Quartet

What I Watched Today

Technically, what I watched Friday night.

Z Nation

A quick recap of last week. Operation Bitemark went back to Mercy Labs, where they found the blob that was once Dr. Teller’s wife, and his intact son, encased in some kind of liquid in a tank. Sadly, they needed the juice powering the tank to power the radio, so Andrew was taken off life support, or suspended animation, or whatever he was. Lily wanted to save him, but Roberta said he’d be like a bug trapped in amber that won’t die, since no one was coming to get him. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of one. I thought it was “the few,” but okay. Roberta collected another cylinder, and there was also a lot of flashing back to the mercy-proof zombies and Red.

Kaya told Citizen Z that the man with a plan cracked his way into NORAD, and downloaded files from something called Black Rainbow. Scampy was still frolicking around, albeit minus an arm, and caught Citizen Z unawares. Citizen Z pulled out Scampy’s heart, but of course this did nothing. Kaya came to his rescue, zipping Scampy into a body bag. Kaya found out a lot of money had been pumped into the Black Rainbow project, and something called the fourth strike weapon. She and Citizen Z kept trying to get Operation Bitemark on the radio, saying they had vital information regarding Black Rainbow. They finally connected, and told Roberta that intruders copied the files and spoofed their way into NORAD. Kaya told her the reset will kill everything in order to start the world over; the launch codes needed to be changed. Roberta said her dream was about stopping the launch, and Kaya said they had to be changed manually at the launch pad, but they’ll need the thumbprint of the President to change them. Roberta said they were headed to Washington DC

The Season Finale

Operation Bitemark travels down the road. Roberta says this is it. The last place evacuated. Doc says there’s a nuclear war, and the government got relocated while the rest of them were blown to smithereens. Roberta tells them to keep their eyes open. They walk into the Mount Weather Emergency Operation. They see massive doors built into the side of a mountain, and a line of abandoned cars. Roberta says she guesses the President didn’t make it inside.

They look into the cars, but nothing, until they get to the last one. Secret Service zombies pop out. Murphy looks in the back, and Roberta asks if it’s the President. He says sort of; all the good parts are gone. He checks, saying no thumb on one hand, and no hand on the other hand. Murphy finds an ID indicating it’s the President’s husband. Roberta says they need to go inside; the President could still be in there. Roberta tries the ID, but the lock uses a retina scanner. She asks Doc if he’s thinking what she is, and that’s a yep. Murphy goes, eww! Doc scoops out the guy’s eyeball. It doesn’t work on the first try, but he removes a contact or cataract or something, and it opens the doors.

Roberta tells them to keep their eyes peeled for signs of life. Murphy adds, and dead. Doc asks why it always has to be underground. Why not a showdown in a penthouse, or at least something with a window? They go through the building. Roberta wants to find the Oval Office. They check the Congressional Chambers, where there are some political zombies toddling around.

Doc and Murphy dispatch them, and high-five each other for keeping democracy alive. Lily and 10K clear the stairs. Roberta smashes a zombie in the head in with her Route 66 shield. Two very much alive Secret Service agents stop them in the hallway.

Roberta introduces herself, saying she needs to see the President; it’s about saving humanity. The agents – both of whom are named Johnson, but are not related – tell them they’re about eight minutes too late to save humanity. Roberta explains that there’s going to be a biological attack to cleanse the world and repopulate it with genetically modified offspring. They’re not sure what the problem is, and Roberta asks if the President knows her husband is dead.

A woman comes out and tells Johnson to put his weapon down. They ask which one, and she says both of them. She introduces herself as Jane Carlson, President of the United States. Roberta asks how many survivors there are, and she says they’re looking at them. Most of them evacuated, and they were supposed to follow, but ran into obstacles. Murphy says he just killed some obstacles. Roberta explains they’re on a mission to find a secret weapon, and need her thumbprint. She knows it sounds crazy. Jane hopes they didn’t go to much trouble. She has no thumbs. Murphy says, eww! She didn’t know thumbs would be in such demand, and suggests they go to the Oval Office.

Jane offers them bottled water, and jelly beans from the 80s. She tells them about a visitor who said he could either kill her, or she could take a sedative, but either way, he would take her thumbs. She tried to tell him it wasn’t what he needed, but she had no choice. When she woke up, he was gone, and so were her thumbs, but she never knew why. Roberta tells her that they’re needed to access a doomsday weapon. Jane explains that she’s about the fiftieth down the line for President, so they would do no one any good. It needs to be the person who was President during the outbreak. President Bill Carney, who turned Z, but last she knew, still had his thumbs. He’s about twenty-five levels below them. The lower level is rife with zombies, and was sealed off ages ago. Roberta says the only way to access Black Rainbow is to have the President’s thumbprints. Jane asks if Dr. Teller sent her, Roberta says he did, and Jane says there’s something she’s supposed to show her. One of the Johnsons puts on a VCR, which Murphy calls Jurassic tech. Jane says that’s what happens when you’re on a budget. She takes out a tape.

They eat jelly beans as they watch. We go through all the “unauthorized use of” warnings, and finally get to Black Rainbow –  when three strikes aren’t enough. We’re told if this is being watched, World War III is over, and we lost. The corn belt is a wasteland of radioactivity, and anyone who survived day one has been wiped out by fallout contamination. No doubt, some enemies have escaped, repopulated, and colonized what was once the USA. The narrator says, no, sir, not on our watch. Now is the time for Black Rainbow – the fourth strike in the doomsday project that will protect US interests, even after the US is gone. The narrator goes on to talk about drones that will spread a contaminant that kills anything it touches – the ultimate autonomous doomsday weapon, when three strikes aren’t enough. Roberta decides they’d better find the President after all.

The group gets in the last working elevator. Jane explains that access was cut off after day one, and no one has been down there since. There’s an entire alphabet of elevator buttons, and they go to level Z. Roberta asks who’s down there, and Jane says pretty much everyone was trapped, including most of Congress and the cast of Hamilton. They’re all zombies now. The elevator stops.

The door opens behind them, instead of the way they’re facing. They bust through the crowd of zombies, which, sure enough, contains some Hamilton cast members. Hamilton has officially hit the big time now. Doc says they’ll have to check every Z, and Murphy says, welcome to the nothing-is-ever-easy club. Roberta gets back in the elevator, and presses a button with an omega symbol. She gets out, and goes down a long hallway. Doc realizes she’s missing, and says they have to find her, but Jane says they can either find a dead President or help their friend.

Doc finds a jacket belonging to the President, and tosses it to Murphy. Doc says maybe Murphy’s whispering powers are back, and he can detect a scent. Murphy says he’s not a bloodhound, and it’s degrading. Doc says so is dying in an underground bunker; take a whiff. He does, but says the only thing he detects is that the President needs stronger deodorant. Jane says she has a plan.

Roberta calls out for anyone alive.

Jane suggests they open the door enough to let the zombies in one by one, and check them one at a time. She shakes her head no, as each one comes through, and they’re mercied.

Roberta continues on downstairs. She hears the music for Hail to the Chief, and follows the sound. She finds a dead man sitting in an auditorium, while the music blares from a boombox.

Doc wants Murphy to sniff one of the zombies. Murphy says he’s doing it under protest, and Doc asks how that’s different from anything else he does. Murphy tells him they all smell alike, and it’s not a good smell.

Roberta sees a teleprompter rolling a speech about everything being fine and under control.

Jane thinks one of the zombies might be the President. They wrestle with him, and Lily says he’s feisty for a dead guy. They put something in his mouth to keep him from biting, but Jane says, her bad. It’s not him. It’s the Secretary of State… or Agriculture.

Roberta goes backstage, and finds the zombie President tied to a chair. She wheels him out.

Murphy says for the record, this plan sucks unilaterally. Doc says it could be worse. Murphy asks how, and Doc says it might suck, but it’s all they’ve got. They hear a squeaking sound, and Roberta arrives with the President. Jane confirms that it’s him.

Doc says thumbs up has been given a whole new meaning. He thanks Jane, and she tells him to vote for her when things are back to normal. Roberta says if they can stop Black Rainbow, maybe there will be an election again someday. Jane says she never said anything about stopping it, and asks if that’s why Teller sent her. One of the Johnsons draws his gun, and says everyone chill and no one gets hurt. Lily draws her gun, and tells everyone to be calm. Jane tells her to lower her weapon; it’s a direct order, and she’s still her Commander-in-chief. Lily keeps her weapon readied, and Jane says she’s ordering her to help secure the prisoner. Roberta tells Lily she doesn’t have to listen to her, but Lily says she does, and moves to the other side. She says she’s sorry, but she took an oath; she’s a Marine. Jane hopes to get her vote one day. They return to the Oval Office.

Roberta tells Jane that she retrieved the toxic cylinders from Mercy Labs. Jane wonders how much she was told about the reset. They were about to join the Founder when Operation Bitemark showed up. Murphy says, good luck with that plan. Doc thought they were going to Newmerica, but Jane says it’s doomed. The only ones who will survive the reset will be those in Zona, and democracy will flourish. Doc says there won’t be anyone left to vote, but she says the right people will vote. Everyone else is collateral damage. Lily says the rest of humanity will be wiped out, and Jane tells her that she switched sides just in time. The reset starts now. Lily says, no, and shoots her. Doc and 10K kill the Johnsons. Jane calls Lily a traitor. Lily says she’s required to disobey an unjust order, and shoots her again. Doc says she just killed the President. Lily says she turned, besides, they’ll get another one.

They move out to the hallway, where Lily and 10K wait until the Johnsons appear. They blast them until there’s nothing left. Jane careens around the corner next, but they’re out of ammunition. Roberta says she’s got it, and stabs Jane in the head with a golf umbrella that just happens to be there. Roberta goes into a fugue state, and sees a fireball in the sky. She finishes Jane off until she’s another pile of mess.

Doc asks if Roberta is okay. Murphy says now that they have President Thumbelina, what are they going to do? Roberta says, take him to Washington DC. If anybody asks, they were nowhere near Mount Weather.

Part Two

Washington looks like a pile of rubble. Our heroes fight off various Congressional and House zombies on the way to the Capital building. Ooh, nice exploding head. Murphy says if they knew what they were looking for, that would be great. Roberta says she’ll know when she sees it, but they’re getting close. Roberta flashes back to killing Jane, but it’s in her dream wasteland. She circles a mound of wreckage, and tells Murphy to stand there and put his hands up. She puts a curb your dog sign in front of him, and tells him to get on the rock and put his hands together. She has Lily hold the sign, and crouches down. She goes into her dream, and sees a spire instead of Murphy.

Roberta pulls some junk off of a sewer cap. They open it, and she smiles.

They go down, bringing the President with them. Murphy wonders if they’re on a VIP tour from hell, and Doc says leading the President is like walking a Slinky. Roberta brings them through a tunnel. A blind worker zombie feels his way toward them. Roberta slams him, and Murphy marvels at a blind Z, wondering what they’ll think of next. Doc tells him they go by sound, so curb his farting. They need to go down thirty flights, and discuss how to get the President down the stairs. While they’re debating this, Murphy dropkicks him, and says he fell.

When they get downstairs, they find a couple of zombies, who are either mad or blind, snacking on the President. 10K nails them with a slingshot, and announces that’s 8,402. Murphy says the President is fine, but Doc says he looks like he fell off a cliff in a cartoon. They get him back up, and Doc tells him to look alive.

They continue on, going past signs for the first and second strikes, and destruction worldwide. Next is the third strike, and kill, kill, kill. When they come to the fourth strike, there is only a Skeletor face. Doc suggests they go to the cafeteria instead, and wants to know why they always have to go the way of the skull? Roberta tells them to hold, and they hear zombies. It’s a close, narrow hallway, and Green Beret zombies move toward them. A body drops down from the landing, and Murphy says somebody up there doesn’t like them. It’s the man with a plan. Roberta says he’s going to launch the codes, and they let him get there first. Roberta translates some Latin words written on the door – to the end of everything – even though she’s never studied Latin.

Roberta flashes back to waking up in Zona. Dr. Teller says they have a lot to talk about; a lot of questions. Roberta asks where she is, and the doctor tells her Zona, and explains that she was in a medically induced coma. He tells her about the bullet passing through Murphy, and hitting her. She’s now immune. He says Murphy is there too, giving blood to save the world. The world is in grave danger, worse than the zombie apocalypse or danger from themselves. This time, they still can save what’s left of humanity, and she’s the only one who can do it.

Back in Washington, they enter another area. Roberta sees a the launch panel. She stares at it, and starts messing with the dials and keyboard. In her Zona flashback, she’s wearing a VR headset, and Teller says that what she’s seeing is a mockup launch panel of a doomsday weapon. She asks if Black Rainbow is nukes, and he says, worse. The fourth strike repurposes weapons of mass destruction, and uses them to make the world new. By the time she gets there, she’ll know what to do. In Washington, the machine starts beeping, and Roberta continues to fiddle with it.  In Zona, she gets frustrated, as Teller watches. In real time, Lily says, locals coming this way. They need the door code.

Dr. Teller suggests Roberta relax, and let her subconscious do the work. 10K says, here comes everybody, Lily adding, everybody and their mother. Doc asks what happens when the timer gets to zero? Murphy tells Roberta that they need the door code. Roberta puts on the security camera monitors. 10K says they need the door code. In Roberta’s Zona flashback, Teller is explaining geographical areas to be treated. The timer stops. The man with a plan takes out a cylinder. Roberta remembers asking Teller what’s in them. He tells her the end of the world as they know it. A chemical agent that will spread the cure globally within a few years. Once the countdown is started, she has three minutes to change the cylinder. In the conscious world, Murphy tells Roberta they really need the door code. She finally gives it to Doc who punches it in. The door closes, but it gets stuck and doesn’t close completely. Roberta says when Teller woke her up, he told her how to stop it. She has to change the cylinders.

The President is wheeled to the panel. He starts to put his thumb on the pad, but Roberta says, not now. She tells the others she has to go alone to change the cylinders. Where she’s going, no one can follow. If they get to Newmerica, find Addie and Red, and tell them she loves them. She says goodbye to everyone, and tells Murphy if she’s ever in a coma again, don’t wake her. Lily salutes her.

Roberta follows a corridor to a hard hat area where the launch pad is, housing a huge flying saucer-like drone. The man with a plan appears, and tells her it’s too late. Her actions noble and heroic, but misguided. She tells him to misguide this, and runs toward him. He shoots at her, but the bullets bounce off her shield. Seeing this on the monitor, Murphy says they have to help. Doc says she told them to stay there. Roberta and the man (not to be confused with The Man in the previous season) fight. Murphy says Roberta kicked his ass. Doc says they still have a situation, and starts shooting through the door opening.

Roberta opens the drone. In her mind, Teller gives her the instructions. She blocks the opening from closing completely. Teller says she’s almost done. He says there’s a 78% chance of gas being released, which is why she has to do it alone. She asks, if she does this, is she not coming back? He says if she doesn’t, humanity isn’t coming back. She inserts the cylinder, and sits up. Murphy says that’s the signal; Mr. President, it’s showtime. Doc thinks he should wait until she clears out, but Murphy says Roberta is running the show and that’s the signal. A half-zombie flies into the room, and jumps onto Doc’s back. He twirls around, but it won’t let loose. Murphy says, on three, and the machine says, countdown, three minutes. Doc says that was fun.

Roberta gets out of the drone. The others see the man on the monitors, but Roberta doesn’t. Murphy says he’s going. Doc tells him, no, but he leaves anyway. The rest watch as Roberta gets down, and the man knocks her out.

Roberta sees the Black Rainbow in her mind. She gets rained on, and starts to burn and melt. Teller says, sorry about the fire and brimstone, but he needed images strong enough to burn in her memory. Some plans are best kept hidden, even from ourselves. He says someone would personally like to thank her for her sacrifice.

It’s Michael Berryman! The Founder tells her, hello, and Roberta says they’ve met before. He says many times. He wanted to personally thank her, on behalf of everyone in Zona, for her heroic efforts to make the reset a reality. She says her mission was to stop Black Rainbow. Teller says there’s been a small change in plans. The Founder says she’s the saver of Zona. There’s a flesh-eating bacterium in the drone. It will cleanse the world, and they’ll start anew. Roberta asks what makes them think she’s going along with it. The Founder says she has no choice, and puts his oxygen mask over her nose and mouth.

Roberta hears the countdown. She says, she’s the reset. Well, this is just mean.

Murphy fights with man. The man whacks him with the cylinder, and gas is released into the man’s face. Roberta gets up. Two minutes and counting. She goes back to the drone. Doc wonders what she’s doing, and Lily says she’d better do it fast. When Roberta is inside the drone, she forgets to block the door, and it closes all the way. Doc wonders where Murphy is. Crawling out toward the cylinder. Roberta starts to take the installed cylinder out, but her hand shakes (part of her dream). She hears the drone start. The back of the building opens, and it’s like the landscape in Roberta’s mind. Minus the nuclear fallout. The drone starts to rise.

Doc says it’s taking off with Roberta. Lily asks what they do, and 10K says they can’t stay there. They all run. This is the longest nine seconds ever. Roberta starts to mess with the other cylinder, and yells, nooo! The drone takes off. Doc, Lily, and 10K watch. Now what?

The drone flies with Roberta inside. Things start popping out of it, seeding the clouds. Murphy joins the others, his skin totally red. Doc says, Black Rainbow. Murphy says Roberta was right. They watch as the Black Rainbow forms in the sky. 10K says it’s beautiful. Lily asks if they’re going to die. 10K says it looks like it, and she grabs him and kisses him. Murphy asks Doc if he thinks they should make a run for it, but Doc says no. They’d just get run over by a giant wheel of zombie cheese. Murphy says maybe the reset isn’t such a bad idea after all, and Doc says he guesses they’ll find out.

The drone spins. Roberta says. have mercy. and cries out.

General Hospital

Anna tells Finn it’s lucky he met her, and he says his presence is the only thing preventing her from putting on a bathrobe and adopting a cat. She can’t believe he played the cat card, and says plenty of men would want to be with her, starting with him. He asks if she thinks he wants to be with her, and she says, doesn’t he? He grabs her and kisses her. He says she’s still arrogant, and she says he’s still miserable. They kiss some more.

Franco asks if Elizabeth wants to go to the art therapy room for some therapy. She likes the idea, but has to mail Jake’s cards. She says he made a card for Franco, and Drew, who he still looks at as his father, but not for Jason. Franco says it’s an adjustment. Elizabeth says normally she’d ask Andre, and Franco says, no, she doesn’t want to do that.

Jordan brings Andre some food from Kelly’s. She hears Julian shouting. He wants to know what’s going on, and why he was dragged down there. Jordan tells him to kindly dial it down. He says he’s not saying another word until his lawyer gets there. Magically, Scotty appears, and Julian complains that they didn’t even read him his rights. Scotty was supposed to get the shackles off. He says he’s done with trials, prison, and the PCPD. He says he’s walking out. If they don’t like it, shoot him.

Alexis waits for Drew in his office. He tells her sorry he’s late. He needs some help with some contracts and other paperwork. She tells him those are legalities that can be arranged. She’s not just any attorney, she’s Sam’s mom, and needs to know if he’s going to do right by her daughter.

At the docks, Sam says Jason wanted her to have the ring because she was his wife, but she’s not anymore.

Anna’s phone rings. It’s Robin. Anna says she wishes she had something exciting to report, but things are dull at the moment. I’m surprised Robin isn’t asking what’s wrong, since Anna answered the phone panting, like she was in the middle of a workout.

Franco tells Elizabeth why make trouble where none exists? Jason is doing fine. Elizabeth is disappointed in Andre and herself. She trusted him, and it’s made her doubt everything and everybody. Franco asks if he’s included, but she says no, she has complete faith in him. He says he’s going to do whatever he can to make sure it stays that way. Elizabeth tells him that she loves him, and they start kissing. Kiki clears her throat, and says she’s going to report them to HR for fraternizing. Franco says they’re not fraternizing; they’re just making out. Kiki comments on Elizabeth’s ring, and tells them congratulations. Elizabeth says she’ll be back, and they can go home together. Kiki tells her that she’ll keep an eye on him. When Elizabeth is gone, Kiki asks if everything is okay, and Franco says, great, but it doesn’t sound like it.

Julian whines that it’s open season on Julian Jerome, like always. Jordan tells him if he doesn’t quit it, she’ll have him arrested for resisting release. DA Campbell elected not to retry the case. Scotty says the good news is, he’s free; the bad news is, his bill is a doozy.

Drew tells Alexis nothing personal, but it’s not his life he needs help with; it’s Aurora. Now that they’ve determined he’s not Jason, he wonders what the legalities are. Alexis asks why he doesn’t go to Diane, since she negotiated the purchase. He says she’s no longer his lawyer; she’s Jason’s. he’s worried that she’s going to confiscate what’s his, and give it to Jason. Alexis says she is fiercely diligent. Drew asks if he can count on her help. She says that depends on if she can count on his.

Sam says when she thought Drew was Jason, they started to reconnect, but wanted a clean slate, so they got divorced. They wanted a fresh start, instead of recreating the past. When he asked her to marry him, he put this ring on her finger, but it wasn’t his to give; it’s Jason’s.

Robin puts Emma on the phone, as Finn bites the head off of a gingerbread man. Anna tells Emma it seems like yesterday they were going to see Santa, and not to be in a rush to grow up – some people never do. After she hangs up, she tells Finn those cookies are expensive. He asks if she wants to talk about it, and she says no. Did he think she would because she’s a woman, and they’re all talky-feely?  She’s sorry to disappoint. She pulls out some gifts and wrapping paper. She tells him they need to wrap gifts for the children’s home, and take a box of ornaments to the park for the tree. Finn calls her a regular Christmas elf. She knows he’s more the Grinch type, but if they’re going to look authentic, he might as well help, since he’s determined to go undercover. He says he’ll work with her as long as it takes to bust her. Ann says that Christmas cheer is part of the deal.

Julian thanks Scotty, and says now they can move forward with the other project. Scotty says he’s on it. Jordan tells Julian to use his second chance to live a better life, or it will be her pleasure to send him back to Pentonville. Elizabeth asks comes in wanting to talk to Jordan.

Drew tells Alexis he’s not going to forget what he had with Sam, and hand her over to Jason like a baton. Alexis says she was just testing him. She’s on his side. He’s good to and for her daughter, and made a calculated choice to give her and the kids a safer life. That’s why she’s here. They need to tackle the biggest problem first. He and Sam aren’t legally married.

Jason tells Sam the traitor could be in Port Charles. A call Klein made in Russia was traced call back to there. Sam says she’s trying to give back the ring, not talk about Faison. He says Faison is the reason she’s giving It back. He lost five years, and needs to know how everything fits, and if there’s a threat. To do that, he needs his brother’s help.

Elizabeth visits Andre. She needs answers. Jake trusted him, and he broke that trust. She doesn’t know how to explain it to him, but has to tell him that Andre broke the law, and can’t talk to him when he needs it the most. His father isn’t his father’ he’s a stranger. Andrew says it’s confusing. He knows Jake is struggling, and it’s a lot to process, but he has the tools now. He can trust his family and himself. He’s in a good place, and Andre is confident he’ll find a way through with their love and guidance. Elizabeth says he has Franco too, and Andre says, about Franco…

Kiki asks Franco what’s going on with Elizabeth. She knows when he gets twitchy, something is bothering him, and he’s in serious danger of making it worse. He tells Kiki that he didn’t trust to tell Elizabeth something. He’s learning to care and feel, but he’s bad at it. Kiki says the alternative is the old Franco, who had no conscience, and no one to love.

Alexis looks through Drew’s paperwork. He says doing this feels like packing up bits and pieces of his life. She asks if he still wants to leave Jake and Danny in his will. He does, and she asks about Sonny and Carly being guardians if something happens to him and Sam. Drew says his entire existence is invalid. Alexis tells him it’s nothing that can’t be fixed, but they need to discuss everything with Sam. It’s her life too.

Jason explains to Sam that Drew went AWOL three months before he was shot. Drew might have seen the traitor. He doesn’t remember, but maybe the baseline exists. Sam asks if Jason thinks his memories can be given back. He doesn’t know, but he’s like to find out. Sam says even so, it wouldn’t matter. She’s married to Drew; they have a life and family together. Danny is Jason’s son, but he loves Drew. They can’t undo what Faison has done, and she can’t keep the ring, since she can’t keep the promises made with it. She tries to hand it back. He touches her hand, and they give each other soap opera looks.

Finn wraps gifts way better than I do, and Anna too, apparently. She tells him that hers aren’t as compulsively perfect, but her skill set more suited to espionage. He tells her to stop; it’s hard to watch. He takes over making a bow.

Elizabeth tells Andrew that Franco is handling it. She knows he’s not the most forthcoming, and has a tendency to keep dark and damaging things inside, but he’s been through a lot, and she loves him. They’re getting married. She asks if this is where he throws warnings at her, but he says he knows Franco loves her. She brings out the best in him. He congratulates her, and wishes them nothing but happiness

Franco tells Kiki that everyone says to be honest, but everything between him and Elizabeth is perfect; why mess it up? Kiki can’t tell him what to do, but thinks he’s paying a price for staying silent. He says he’s mostly scared to disappoint Elizabeth, and for her to lose faith in him or herself. Kiki says he’s being human, having feelings for people he loves. He tells her it sucks. Aiden wants him to read Pinocchio every night, and he hates it. He’s spent his life being hollow pieces of wood. Kiki wonders if that makes Elizabeth the Blue Fairy. Franco says she’s magic. Kiki says love is a gift, and stop trying to save her.

Julian thanks Scotty for coming through. Scotty says he can’t take all the credit; Julian’s crazy sister helped. As for the other piece of business, once it’s done, it’s done. Scotty wants him to be aware of what he’s signing. Julian says he is, and Scotty tells him to go ahead and sign his life away.

Alexis tells Drew that they’re navigating uncharted waters. They need to resolve the custody issues and the Quartermaine trust settlement. Drew tells her about Oscar, saying it just keeps on coming. He just found out, but had never known. He and Kim knew each other when he was in the Navy. He only knew her a short time, but that was enough. Sam knows, and has been nothing but supportive. Alexis thinks they should table the questions before his head explodes, and they can talk tomorrow. He’s dreading talking to Sam about their marital status, but Alexis tells him to face it head on; he might be pleasantly surprised. Drew appreciates her believing in him. She says he’s good to her daughter, and that works for her. When she gets outside, David calls. She tells him they’re still on for tonight.

Jason won’t take Sam’s ring. He can’t; it’s hers. He understands why she’s not wearing it, but tells her to give it to Danny. He’s their son, and someday, he can give it to the woman he loves. As fast as kids grow up on soaps, that shouldn’t be too long from now.

Anna asks what is it with Finn? He doesn’t dance, he doesn’t do Christmas. She takes a piece of mistletoe out of the box, and they smile at each other.

Alexis sees Julian at dive bar Charlie’s. She asks if he has a tracking device, and he says no, and he was there first. She tells him she’s meeting someone, and doesn’t want to be uncomfortable. She’s glad for his freedom, but doesn’t want drama. If he respects her, he’ll leave; one of them has to. He says it should be her.

Jordan tells Andrew that she wishes things could be different. So does he. The guard cuffs him, and he’s taken away. Before he leaves, Jason asks to speak to him briefly. Jordan wonders if he should have a lawyer present, but Andre says it’s fine. Jason says he took a baseline of the memory map, and asks if it still exists, and if the memories could be returned. Andre says it’s never been done, but in theory, it could. Unfortunately, he destroyed everything before he left. Jason asks if it’s gone, and he says, not quite.

Elizabeth tells Franco that she went to Andre because she needed closure, and for him to understand how difficult it is for Jake. He thinks Jake will be okay, and is in a good place. Andre said he’ll adjust, and she believes him.  She also told him they’re getting married. Franco asks if Andre told her to run for the hills? She says actually he said congratulations and wished them happiness. He told her that she brings out the best in Franco. She didn’t say it, but Franco does the same for her. She kisses him, but then asks, what is it?

Sam goes to the office. She tells Drew she went to the pier to think, and ran into Jason. It was a little intense. She thanked him for clearing up the desertion charges, and they talked about Spinelli. It came up about Spinelli being the one who married them, and she realized she was still wearing the ring Jason gave her. Drew says Jason did give it to her first. She says it was his grandmother Lila’s ring, and he wants her to give to Danny to give to someone he loves someday. Jason hands her his ring, saying Danny should have that too. It belonged to Alan, who was also his father, but he raised Jason. They shouldn’t be wearing rings anyway, since they’re not actually married. Way to drop that bomb.

Julian tells Alexis that he was just about to order. She asks him to surprise her, and do the right thing. He says he’s not leaving. He owns the place. He just bought it.

Finn takes the mistletoe. They get close, but then he pulls away, saying, let’s get going, and puts it back in the box. They gather up the presents, and he asks if she needs help putting them in the car. She says no, and he puts on his jacket. They keep looking at each other. He tells her goodnight, and not to wait up. She says she wouldn’t dream of it. This is going to be like Moonlighting, isn’t it?

Franco tells Elizabeth that Andrew was right. She brings out the best in him, but he hasn’t been his best self lately. He used to be able to lie or keep things to himself and sleep like a baby, but now it actually hurts him. He to tell her something that he should have told her before now.

Jason asks Andre if there’s a copy of the baseline. He says there’s a copy of both memory maps, along with a detailed record of what he did. He put it in a Christmas ornament, and gave it to the only person he trusts, but they don’t’ even know what it is.

Anna takes the box of ornaments to the car. I guess that means it’s her.

Drew tells Sam that they married when he thought his name was Jason Morgan. It isn’t legal, but he meant every word of his vows. He needs to say them again in his own name. So, would she marry him?

On Monday, Elizabeth asks why Franco didn’t give anyone the proof, Jason thinks Drew remembers more than he realizes, and Lulu asks Maxie for a favor.

Once Upon a Time

Jacinda takes Lucy to the hospital.

In Lucy’s parallel life, she’s born into a magic kingdom. Henry wonders where his mother is, and Drizella says she was detained. He wants Drizella to leave, but she has a prophecy to deliver. On Lucy’s eighth birthday, their lives as they know them will end. Hook says not so fast, and Henry tells her to look down. She’s turning into stone, and Lady Tremaine says she can’t have Drizella casting the curse. Drizella says she’ll be back, and they’ll know what true misery is.

Tiana thanks everyone for coming to Lucy’s birthday. Regina lights the candles with a poof! but when Lucy blows them out, it gets dark, and lightening flashes. Gothel pops in next to the now statue of Drizella. She asks if they really thought there would be a celebration. Hooded figures are backing her up, Drizella comes back to life. Regina says the magic can’t be broken. Gothel says not by one, but as a family they can do anything. She tells Drizella the suffering shall begin. They disappear; no poof, no smoke, no nothing.

Back at the hospital, Sabine tells Jacinda that Lucy will be fine. She thinks Jacinda should call Rogers; maybe he can help them figure things out. Victoria watches Anastasia watch TV. Weaver says he didn’t know Lucy would pay the price. Victoria says her daughter isn’t his Guardian. Her magic might save Lucy, but not if she dies. Victoria has no choice but to let him protect her.

In San Francisco, Roni looks at the vial, and asks Henry if everything’s okay. He thinks something’s wrong, but she tells him to focus. They came here for a reason. Spin class? They take their places on the bikes, and Roni tells him to play along and pretend he loves it. Zelena is the instructor, but her name is Kelly here.

In olden days, Henry tells Lucy they stopped her once, and can stop her again. They’re going to fight. She asks if she gets a sword, but that’s a no. Cinderella wonders if they’re doing the right thing. Henry says if Regina can’t stop the curse, it’s the only way to keep her safe; to keep all of them safe.

In the forest, Regina watches some piglets in a pen. An arrow comes thisclose to her, followed by more. She turns around, and tells the archer she’s impressed; she’s getting good. Zelena appears, and says luckily, she has her father’s aim. Regina says Robin is growing up fast, but Zelena says not in their realm.

Because you can never be alone, even in the middle of the woods, Drizella grabs Zelena from behind. Regina tells her to free her sister, and the cloaked figures appear. Zelena says they’re witches, the cult of the eight; the worst of the worst. Regina thinks they should fight witches with witches. Zelena says, let her get her wand.

After spin class, Kelly is surprised to see Roni, who’s interrupted her happy place, and is the epicenter of her unhappiness. Roni says she’s there for a reason. Henry leaves them to talk, and Kelly asks why Roni is there. Roni says they were like sisters, but Kelly sees the bitch who ruined daughter’s life, giving her a ticket to Amsterdam, and telling her only losers get an education. Roni says she’s sorry, but Kelly doesn’t understand the whole story. She asks Kelly to have a drink with her, but Kelly says, never. Henry runs in, saying Lucy is in the hospital. He’s getting on the first plane back. Roni tells him be with his family – help Jacinda

Back in the day, Rumpelstiltskin giggles as he spins. Hook says they need his help. He must have magic to stop the curse. Rumpel says he has a bit, and shows Hook a white elephant figurine. Hook asks if it will stop the curse. Rumpel tells him nothing can stop it, but it can keep his most precious relationship intact. When it happens, it will insure that he will still be a father and she will still be a daughter. Alice hides behind a tree, and Hook asks if that’s who she wants to be. She owes it to him to stay by his side. She gives him a note to give to her mother. He says he’ll deliver it, and do his best to make sure nothing harms any of them.

In Hyperion Heights, Tilly sees Weaver on the street, and asks if he remembers the symbol from the journal. She shows him where someone has painted it like graffiti. He wonders what that’s doing there.

Henry arrives at the hospital. Jacinda cries in his arms.

While waiting for Kelly, Roni puts the contents of the vial in some liquor. She tells Kelly that the anger is all meaningless. She’ll remember they were like sisters. She’s not leaving until Kelly has a real drink with her, and she pours some shots from the bottle in her purse. Why Kelly doesn’t mention how weird this is, I don’t know. Kelly drinks it, and Roni says they’re cursed, doesn’t she remember? They are sisters; the Evil Queen and the Wicked Witch. Suddenly, Kelly remembers everything, and becomes Zelena. She asks what’s going on, and Regina says she teaches peddling. Zelena says she was cursed to be a hippie, and Roni tells her that Gothel is out. They’re in danger, and Zelena has to come with her. Someone has to pay for this. Zelena hesitates, saying she had a life here; it’s not that easy. She unzips a garment bag, revealing a fabulous wedding gown. She’s getting married.

Weaver has a line-up of daggers on a table. He tells Anastasia that he’s performed this test many times, and asks her which one has magic? She picks one up, and says no. The table starts to shake, and the daggers fly into a cupboard door. She thinks it’s in there. I wield no magic whatsoever, and I’d probably think the same thing. Weaver opens the cupboard, and takes out the real dagger. Anastasia doesn’t want its power if it does things like that. He says it can be used to heal and help. Victoria’s little girl needs time to show what she can do.

Zelena tells Regina he’s a good guy. She might be cursed, but he makes her happy. Regina says she can come back after the curse is broken. She doesn’t mean to screw up Zelena’s life. Zelena says she loves her, and knows Regina has to save her family. It’s what she always does. She tells Regina, let’s go.

Jacinda and Henry watch over Lucy. Henry wishes he could do more. Jacinda suggests reading to her, and takes out Once Upon a Time. She tells Henry whenever Lucy looked at his book, it gave her strength. He takes Jacinda’s hand.

In ye olde forest, Henry shows Lucy the oldest part of realm. He points out a tree that has the same magic that brought his mom to Storybrooke. He introduces her to Tiger Lily, who says she found Geppetto’s ax. Henry asks if Lucy remembers the wardrobe. She doesn’t want him to cut the tree down. He tells her if the curse happens, she has to go to a land without magic, and find their people. With the book, she can help them believe. He tells her it’s okay. Just believe in him. He gets to work cutting the tree. It’s so big, it should only take a million years with an ax. Henry hears something, grabs a torch, and runs to a cottage. He tells Lucy wake up; they’ve been found, and it’s time. He’s going to stay behind to give her time to escape. She doesn’t want to go without him, but he says she has to make sure the book stays safe. Something very big is at the door. Henry makes her take the book and run. The something comes in, and it’s shadow encompasses the entire room.

Lucy says witches got her father. Cinderella says what Drizella wants is to distract them from stopping the curse. If they don’t, nothing will matter, not even Henry.

Gothel works some magic. Drizella looks at her notes for the curse. She says she’s waited so many years to cast this curse, and thanks Gothel. Lady Tremaine tells Drizella she finally found a mother figure, but she’s just being used. Drizella says no one controls her. Lady Tremaine is going to think she did it to save Anastasia, when actually it will be in service to her. Then she’s going to rip Anastasia from her arms forever. She tells Lady Tremaine to go to sleep, and she does. Regina asks if she’s still working out her mommy issues. Drizella says the sisters won’t be enough, and Regina says Zelena isn’t the only one she brought. She has Cinderella, Hook, and Jack. Regina says if she wants a witch fight, they’re happy to oblige; she won’t be casting a curse.

Drizella says, no, you will, and tells Gothel to show her. Gothel reveals Henry, who looks like he’s in bad shape. She says they did to him what witches do best – poisoned him. Regina’s magic won’t work, and Drizella says it’s not going to, and the only thing that can change that is a trip to land without magic. Regina tells her don’t do this; a curse takes time and ingredients. Drizella says there are eight, and she has seven. The last one is the most important, and hardest to find – magic from a witch who crushed the heart of one she loves most. Does she choose Drizella’s curse or Henry’s life?

In the land without magic, Weaver tells Anastasia she has it, and it’s the only ay to save a girl. Anastasia says, someone is here; it’s her place. Everything starts to shake. The door blows open, and it’s Gothel. Everyone flips around like the characters in Carrie at the prom. Anastasia runs out of the room.

Drizella finds her and says her mother called her to come and help. She tells Anastasia that these will help dampen the magic, and puts bracelets made of vines on Anastasia’s wrists. Anastasi says the witch is after her, but Drizella says she won’t let anything happen to her, and leads her outside.

In the land with magic, Drizella says there’s nothing Regina can do except cast the curse. Regina says she’ll do it. Zelena says it’s not what she wants, but Hook says she’d do it for Robin; let her go. Regina says, let’s do this, but know one thing, it’s not over. The pattern of a wheel has been dug into the ground. Regna drips blood into it, and it bursts into flames.

Rumpel says, gold in a room in my mind. Alrighty then. He gives Alice a key, and says if it doesn’t work, she knows what to do. Robin sees Alice, and says she got her letter. They kiss. Robin says she wanted to see her one last time. Alice says they’ll always know each other. A storm starts to brew.

Cinderella asks what happens to Lucy? How will she find her, if she doesn’t even know she exists? Hook gives her the elephant, and says she’ll know. The flames leap higher. Everyone watches from their respective spots. Smoke envelops the kingdom.

At the modern-day hospital, Henry reads, every curse can be broken. You just need believe. When he learned that, he knew he could believe in everything to save child’s life. He says he gets it. He would do anything to save Lucy, no matter how crazy. If somewhere he’s her dad, he believes. He kisses her om the forehead, like the illustration in the book, but nothing happens. Jacinda sleeps in a chair in Lucy’s room.

Roni tells Zelena that Henry says Lucy is no better. Zelena suggests true love’s kiss, but Roni says he tried it. Victoria must have stopped Lucy’s belief. Zelena says if it will help, she’ll get her magic back, but there’s only one way to do that. Regina says, break the curse. If they do that, Henry dies. If they don’t, Lucy does.

Anastasia asks where they are, and Drizella says a gathering place for her and her family. Gothel appears, and asks what’s going on. Drizella says she’s sick of living in Anastasia’s shadow. She’s going to steal her magic, like she’s stolen everything from her. Anastasia grabs her hand. Drizella tells her to let go, but she can’t. Drizella asks what happened. Gothel says she didn’t plan to use the vines to give Anastasia’s magic to her, but used them to give Drizella’s magic to Anastasia. She should have listened to her mother. Gothel throws Drizella into a well. Victoria is already there, and says, don’t dare look at me.

Gothel takes Anastasia to a room that holds the witches’ cloaks. Gothel says they’re beautiful. They’re just cloaks right now, and belong to the darkness, but soon they’ll find the women meant to wear them. The sisters of the coven of eight will be joined.

This spring, the battle has just begun, a conflict of dark magic where two families hang in the balance, and the war of the witches. Once Upon a Time is back on Friday, March 2nd, 2018.

👹 It was also Z Nation‘s season finale, as well as a two-parter. I realized there’s no way I could properly edit that and get any sleep at all. It’s so late, it’s possible I’m not even making sense right now. But fear not, I’ll bring the zombies in all their gory to the blog tomorrow, as well as this week’s quotes. The really good news is…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

 

I was hoping to recap Z Nation, but wanted to cry when it wasn’t On Demand yet. Usually it is the day after it airs. Hopefully, it will show up before the next episode. BTW, there’s no news of it being renewed yet, so if you love it as much as I do, let the SyFy channel know.

Once Upon a Time

A carriage is driven through the forest. Rapunzel is driving, with her husband Marcus and their two daughters in the back. She says she always finds a way for her family. She steps out and goes through a gate. She stoops to gather up some radishes from a garden, and a cloaked figure appears, asking who dares to pick something from Gothel’s garden? and the radishes disappear from her hands. She tells Gothel that her husband is sick, and her children haven’t eaten in two days. Gothel says many come to try and steal her magic, but she’s selflessly risking Gothel’s ire for radishes. It’s rare to find a flower growing amongst the weeds of human nature. Rapunzel says she’ll meant no disrespect and will make payments. Gothel asks what she’ll sacrifice for her family, and Rapunzel says anything. Gothel says they have a deal. Suddenly, thorny vines wrap around and dig into Rapunzel’s wrists, then disappear.

Rapunzel finds herself in a tower with no way out. She tells Gothel that she didn’t agree to this. Gothel says she swore to pay the price for her family’s happiness, and there’s a difference between hers and theirs. Rapunzel says they’ll look for her, but Gothel says they’ll never find her. Rapunzel yells out the window, but the tower is in the middle of a dense forest, and like in Alien, no one can hear her scream.

In the kind of real world, Victoria is in the visitor room at the jail, looking at the scars on her wrists. Ivy/Drizella walks in, and tells her orange looks better on the women in the Netflix show. Victoria says her wardrobe has something in common with Ivy; she’s been stuck with what’s been thrust upon her. She asks why Ivy is there. Ivy says Victoria has taken a family heirloom from her, and Victoria asks if she means Anastasia’s body. She knows Ivy wants the magic within her, and says they both know what she wants to do. Ivy tells Victoria that she has all her assets now, and telling her where Anastasia is, is the only way to get out of jail. Victoria says she doesn’t need Ivy to get her out. Ivy says she’ll find Anastasia herself. She has Gothel helping her now. Victoria says she always gravitated toward any mother figure she could, and asks if someone didn’t get enough hugs. Ivy tells her have fun in prison. Victoria says it’s not the first time someone tried to lock her up, but they learned the lesson that when it comes to her family, she always finds a way. Apparently, she’s the wicked stepmother and Rapunzel.

Lucy asks Jacinda if they can invite Henry over to share the good news that she’s back for good. Jacinda says they’ll talk about it tomorrow, and to get ready for school. Sabine tells Jacinda that Lucy keeps trying to parent trap her. Jacinda says she went to Roni’s to see if she and Henry could work things out, but he’d left for San Francisco with Roni. The bartender was vague about the details, only saying that Roni needed a ride.

Weaver visits Victoria. She says she’s missed their talks. He asks if she enjoyed the talk with her daughter, but Victoria says not since she was four. He says given her current situation, she has little to offer. She tells him she needs help getting to Anastasia, and asks why he’s pretending not to be concerned that Gothel is out of the tower. Weaver doesn’t understand what her nonsense means. She talks about all the knickknacks he’s been collecting, the great love he’s been separated from, and the dagger he can’t get rid of. She asks how the search for the Guardian is going, and says if he helps her today, she’ll share some information with him. She calls him Rumpelstiltskin, and he tells her she has a deal.

In the tower, Rapunzel ticks off the days as her hair grows longer. She sees lanterns floating in the sky outside her window, and gets a scathingly brilliant idea. She anchors her hair, and tells herself to be brave as she climbs out the window.

In Hyperion Heights, Rogers asks Victoria how she got out. She tells him determination. She didn’t get where she is by waiting for others to improve her odds. He tells her that he didn’t ask for a TED talk; he wants to know how she beat the charges. Weaver comes out of the station, and tells Rogers it’s his doing; he didn’t get a warrant. Rogers says there was immediate danger, but Weaver says the judge didn’t see it that way. Rogers knows Weaver is getting something out of this, and he’s going to find out what. Weaver suggests he not cross him. He gets in the car with Victoria, and she says she needs some things to wake her daughter. They have a few stops to make.

Victoria goes to Jacinda’s place. Sabine says a fugitive is here, and Victoria says she’s a free woman. She’s there about her long-standing agreement with Jacinda. Jacinda says she’s not getting Lucy back, and Victoria says she’s there to do the opposite. She’s removing all claims to her granddaughter. Sabine asks what the catch is, and Victoria says there is none. She was testing Jacinda by asking her to sign Lucy over, and she failed, but now she’s passed. She reached out to Nick, and she’s glad he’s back in Jacinda’s life. Jacinda wants to know where this is coming from, and Victoria says she was forced to think about what’s important, and it’s Lucy’s happiness. She gives Jacinda a doll Lucy is fond of, and says family is worth fighting for.

To confuse me even more, young Anastasia is the one sending up the lanterns in front of her home in the enchanted forest. Her sister Drizella says it’s been six years, but Anastasia says she’s not giving up on their mother, and something feels different about tonight. Rapunzel walks out of the woods, and Anastasia hugs her. Marcus comes out, and says he thought she was dead; all he found was her tattered cloak. She says it was a trick. She’d promised Gothel anything for her family to thrive, and was locked away in a tower. Another girl comes out, calling him father, and he tells Ella to go back inside. He tells Rapunzel that she’s his stepdaughter, and introduces her to his wife, Cecilia.

In the present, Gothel tells Ivy that her mother’s entanglement with Rumpelstiltskin is going to prove meddlesome. Ivy says she can team up with the Seven Dwarves for all she cares. If they follow her, she’ll lead them to Anastasia. Gothel tells her it’s a mistake to underestimate Victoria. Ivy asks if she’s speaking from experience. In her experience, her mother always takes wrong path and made poor choices because of it. Now she has to deal with her.

In the fairytale world, Rapunzel pours tea for her daughters. Anastasia says they came for her company, but Drizella says she’s thirsty. Marcus arrives, and asks if they’re ready to head back to the manor. He needs to speak with Rapunzel, and they go inside. He tells her the girls love her. Anastasia speaks about her constantly. Rapunzel says Drizella seems more distant by the day, and he says to give her time; she was very young when Rapunzel left. He takes her old cloak out of his bag, saying he mended it. She’s surprised he kept it. He places it around her shoulders, and says if she hadn’t made the deal, he would most likely be dead and the girls would be in the street. The family owes all their happiness to her. She asks if he still loves her, and he says of course. The girls mean everything to him, but so does Ella and Cecilia. I guess bigamy isn’t against the law in the world of fairytales.

He leaves, and Gothel appears, telling Rapunzel that she’s too strong for tears. Rapunzel thinks Gothel is there to put her back in the tower, but Gothel says no; she admires her resourcefulness in escaping. She knew Rapunzel would escape, and is curious to see if she’ll sacrifice someone else’s happiness for hers. She gives Rapunzel a cartoonish mushroom, something she picked up in Wonderland. She tells Rapunzel to squeeze it into Cecilia’s drink when she least expects it. She can make her go away, and have her family back. Rapunzel throws it into the fire, and says she’s not the kind of person to harm an innocent. Gothel says maybe she’ll find other happiness, but if not, she might come to see it her way. Another mushroom materializes.

Back in Washington state, Nick looks over the papers, and tells Jacinda that Lucy is hers. It’s finally over. She’s glad she called him. She owes him a future life. He kisses her, and she’s like, whoa, and says didn’t want to do this. Nick says he must have misread the signs, and Lucinda says it’s not about him. She’s glad he’s back in their lives, and wants him to have a relationship with Lucy. He says him too, and leaves. Jacinda picks up the mix tape that Henry gave her.

Rogers pulls a fire alarm, and goes into what looks like an evidence room. He sees his Captain Hook hook in a plastic bag, and looks puzzled. He finds a box of folders regarding all of the players in this story. He wonders what Weaver is doing.

Rogers sees Sabine at the food truck, and is impressed at how spiffed up it is. Sabine says they’re nearly ready for the big ball. He tells her that he’s following up on the fire, and she says Weaver already did. He says they need more details, but he didn’t want to bother Weaver on his day off. He asks what she and Weaver spoke about, and Sabine says he told her about how the door was jimmied with a knife he found in the dumpster. Rogers asks if she can describe it, and she draws him a picture of the dagger. She says it didn’t look like something you’d break in with; more like something out of a Tim Burton movie. She tells Rogers that Weaver kept shoving it in her hand, asking if felt anything. She asks what this is about. He says he doesn’t know, but he’s going to find out

Victoria and Weaver go to a mausoleum. He tells her they’ve been followed since they left the police station. She’s aware of it, but not concerned; she has a plan for those two. They open a vault, and Victoria takes out a huge purse, saying it has everything she needs to wake Anastasia. Weaver finds it odd that she wants to reunite with one daughter, when the other waits outside. He had a son who thought as little of him as Ivy does of her, but he never stopped trying to make things right. She says good for him, and he tells her that he ended up losing his son. She tells him not to compare his grief to hers. He has no idea what she’s been through. He says he knows what it’s like to seek reunion, and the costs involved. He paid them, and then his son did. She tells him that she can’t stop now that she finally has a way. He asks where the information is that she promised. Victoria says he’ll get it when Anastasia is awake. As for Ivy, she hasn’t been her daughter for long time.

Back in the day, It’s Drizella’s birthday party. Rapunzel is serving, and Cecilia approaches her, telling her it’s her daughter’s birthday; she should be celebrating, not working. Cecilia wanders off, and Marcus tells Rapunzel the girls get along; maybe the parents should take a cue from them. He says the girls need her, and she says Drizella didn’t even smile at her gift. She sees Drizella getting all excited about Cecilia’s present.

Inside the house, Rapunzel smashes a mirror, and sees the mushroom. She takes it, and squeezes it into a lemonade.

Fast forwarding, Drizella and Gothel go into the mausoleum, but see only Weaver. Drizella asks where Victoria is, and he says long gone. They need to learn how to tail someone better. Gothel wants a moment with Weaver. When Drizella is gone, he wonders how she bought into Gothel’s mother routine; she’s not a mother to anyone. She says mother means different things to different people. She tends to their needs like she can with his. She never thought she’d see a pout on the Dark One, or love in his heart. He says there’s always a time for firsts, and she asks how Belle is. He tells her don’t dare say her name, and she remarks that she struck a nerve. He’s never getting back to her unless she helps him. He says he doesn’t need her help, and Victoria is going to wake Anastasia. Gothel says whatever role she’s assuming today, Victoria neglected to ask the cost, and the cost is the loss of an innocent’s belief. She asks if he has any idea where his great granddaughter is.

Lucy sees Victoria at school. She wants to give her something, and takes the Once Upon a Time book out of her bag. She tells Lucy that she was right. Fairytales are real; her family and belief are all real, but she doesn’t know the whole story. Victoria tells Lucy to come with her, and she’ll tell her the rest.

Lucy is surprised to find out that Victoria is Rapunzel as well as Lady Tremaine. Me too. Victoria says Marcus’s last name was Tremaine, and she took it from him. Lucy says she knew her mom was Cinderella, and Victoria says her unfettered belief is what makes her special. Lucy sees an illustration of Rapunzel using the mushroom, and is shocked that she poisoned her mom’s mom. Victoria says the witch tricked her. She needed her family to be together again. Lucy asks if Cecilia died, and Victoria says no; she could never do that. It only caused her to flee. She didn’t know Marcus would chase after her. Eventually, the family was reunited, and they even welcomed Ella in, but the story didn’t end there.

It’s winter in the enchanted forest. Rapunzel and Marcus watch as the girls build a snowman. Rapunzel says the three seem like sisters. Marcus says he’s been thinking about how much she’s done for the family. The snowman’s hat blows away, and Ella chases after it onto a frozen lake. Anastasia follows her. Their parents are too busy making googly eyes at one another to notice. Marcus tells Rapunzel it’s time he did something to show how much he cares. The ice cracks, and the sisters fall in. Marcus goes after them, diving into the hole they fell through. He pulls out Ella. Rapunzel screams, where’s their daughter? He says he could only grab one.

In modern times, Anastasia is in the hospital on life support. Lucy asks why Victoria is showing her this, and Victoria wants her to see how the world really is, even for the people in the book. She only did what heroes would do. She sacrificed everything for her family, and only got pain in return. Fairytales are real, but happy endings aren’t. Lucy says happy endings are real if you work for them. She believes her family will be together again, and Victoria isn’t a part of her family. Victoria says she believed it too, for far too long; it’s already too late. She shows Lucy her phone, where she has a video of Nick kissing Jacinda. She says Henry means nothing to her. Lucy cries, and Victoria says their stories are the same. They’re separated from those they love, and willing to do whatever it takes to get their families back. Henry has already left town. She tells Lucy that when you’re betrayed by people, you must let them go. She says it’s time to let her belief go. Lucy closes her eyes, and a tear falls on the book. She runs out of the room. By the look on Victoria’s face, I’m guessing a tear is what she needed.

In the old fairytale days, Rapunzel brings Anastasia to Gothel, who says as long as her last breath is in her, she hangs between life and death. Gratitude alone is not enough to wake her though. Anastasia will be going to the tower. Rapunzel says she’s done nothing wrong, and Gothel says it’s not a punishment; it’s a test. She needs a Guardian. When Rapunzel sacrificed everything for her family, Gothel thought she had potential, but she couldn’t resist the temptation to harm an innocent. Perhaps someone else will do better. Rapunzel says if Anastasia is in the tower, she’ll scale it brick by brick. Gothel says she’s made improvements, and there’s magic to prevent any escapes. She checks her pockets for something, and Rapunzel holds up a vial. She says Gothel taught her, when they least expect it. She throws the vial on the ground in front of Gothel, and Gothel disappears, poof! in a cloud of black smoke. Rapunzel tells Anastasia that she’ll bring her back.

In the modern-day hospital, Victoria takes the tear off the book with and eyedropper.

Out on the street, Weaver asks an officer if she’s seen any sign of Lucy. The officer gives him a backpack they found. She asks if he’s sure they shouldn’t contact her mother. He tells her to just keep searching, and remember to report directly to him. Rogers comes by, and shows Weaver the picture Sabine drew of the sword. He asks who Weaver is looking for. Weaver says that’s his business, and to stay out of it. Rogers says he’s been in Weaver’s locker, and he has files on half the town. He can’t tell if Weaver is a dirty cop, or the best one he knows. One minute, he’s talking in riddles, and the next, he’s shutting Rogers out. He can’t shake the feeling that Weaver is trying to tell him something, so just spit it out. Weaver says he’s looking for someone, like Rogers is. Rogers asks what Victoria has to do with it, and Weaver says he thought she could help him, but he was wrong. It’s hard to put into words, but he’s been separated from his wife, Belle. He’d do anything to get to her, and this is in service to that. Rogers believes him, and asks what he can do to help. Weaver says tonight they have to find Lucy.

Victoria approaches Anastasia’s bed with the eyedropper.

Lucy goes home, and Jacinda asks what’s wrong?

Victoria drips the tear onto Anastasia’s forehead. Her eyes open.

Lucy keels over.

Anastasia asks what happened, and Victoria says she saved her. When it comes to her family, she always finds a way. Ivy looks through the window, and walks away with tears in her eyes.

Next time, the winter finale – someone wicked returns, Regina suggests fighting witches with witches, and the first strike ignites a war.

Re 90-Day Fiancé – still working on my monthly dissertation, but it looks doubtful that any of them are making it to the altar. David turned out to be an obnoxious drunk; Luis (who held such promise) didn’t realize that when you marry a woman with children, the children come with the deal; Andrei is a control freak; the guy half of the couple whose names I don’t remember argues with her over wedding plans and refuses to talk about sex (they’re both virgins); and Azan and Nicole are a no, just no. I sense a pattern here…

I have a bit of a busy evening – why, oh why, are they always on Friday? – and will catch up with Z Nation tomorrow for sure, and maybe Once Upon a Time. If there’s time.

General Hospital

Jason kicks in the door. It’s Britt! She tells him not to shoot.

Carly puts toys in for donation at the hospital Toys for Tots bin. She sees Kim, who tells her she’s working there now. Carly says the toy donations cheered her up, and Kim asks if everything is okay. Carly says her best friend is back but the situation with Drew and Jason is a mess. Kim says she must have heard that Drew was arrested this morning

Drew is out, and Sam hugs him

Josslyn gets the test results. Oscar tells her to wait. He says he saw Drew on the footbridge, and they were like strangers, so he probably is. Josslyn says there’s one way to know for sure. He asks if she would be mad if he wanted to delete the results instead.

Michael suggests Nelle start fresh somewhere else. She asks how she can when she’s carrying his child. He tells her not to make up another lie. She’s not pregnant; she’s desperate. She says she’s both.

Jason tells Sonny one room has her stuff, and the other is empty. Britt says her father is gone. Sonny asks when she last saw him, and she says a few hours ago. He said they had to move on, and she told him to go without her; she’s tired of running. She asks how Spencer is, but Sonny is still angry about her part in his kidnapping. She says it was one mistake. He tells her to turn it around, and tell them what they need to know.

Drew tells Sam that in light of his service record and corroborating testimony, they’re going to resurrect his discharge. She says someone is finally reasonable and rational. He tells her not at first, and wonders what she and her mom did. She says it wasn’t all them. Everyone looked at her like she’d been watching too much sci-fi when she told them about the memory mapping. Drew asks what else happened, and she says Jason spoke on his behalf. Jason is the reason he’s free.

Elizabeth and Franco discuss Santa. He says the jury is out on him. This year, he wants marry her on Christmas, and make all his Christmas wishes come true.

Kim tells Carly that she went to talk to Drew about the stunt Oscar and Josslyn pulled. Carly says it was probably Josslyn’s idea, and she’s lost privileges. Kim thinks it was more like 50/50. She tells Carly that when they were talking the Master of Arms showed up, and arrested him for desertion. Carly says It doesn’t make sense; he had a distinguished service record, and just vanished. Kim asks if she thinks he was abducted. She says she knows it; Jason was.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he’ll pay her back. She says that’s not a problem, but she thought he wanted to find his father. He says maybe he doesn’t want to know. His mom has gone his entire life without telling him, and maybe there’s a reason.

Michael tells Nelle the timing is convenient. She says convenient or not, it’s the truth. He asks if she took a test, and remarks that the last time they slept together was in October. She says she’s about six weeks pregnant. He says that’s if she’s pregnant, and if he’s the father.

Sonny asks if Britt knows Jason, and she says they met briefly. She did exam on his little boy when he came back. He asks how much she knows about what her father did to Jason, and she says nothing. He thinks that seems odd, since she traveled with him. Jason had been held captive, and switched with his own twin. Britt asks if when Sonny does something criminal, if he tells his daughter. Sonny says she might have overheard something. Jason tells her about Danny teaching the dog tricks, and how he lives with a man who isn’t his father. Her father did that, and he needs to know why.

Drew asks how Jason got involved, and Sam says she called him. The story was so crazy, it had to be proven. He looks like the photo in Drew’s Naval folder, and his life was documented until 2012. It seemed to be enough that he explained what happened to him, and what he thinks happened to Drew. She tells him to relax. He could be on his way to military prison, but instead he’s with her.

Oscar tells Josslyn that going behind his mom’s back is kind of a violation of privacy. Josslyn says he has the legal right to know, but he thinks he should give her one more chance to explain.

Carly gets off the phone, and tells Kim that Drew was released with no criminal charges. She thanks her for being helpful in clearing things up. She gave them a place to start looking. Kim says it looks like it worked out better for Jason, but Carly says not really. He lost so much, and everyone assumes he’ll be okay. She sees Franco and Elizabeth, and says case in point. Kim mentions that they just got engaged.

Carly stomps over, saying she heard something she can’t believe; they’re engaged. Elizabeth confirms that. Carly says she has no room to judge, since she once agreed to marry him, but she didn’t go through with it. Franco says that’s revisionist history; he dumped her. She says she thought he was her last link to Jason; what’s Elizabeth’s excuse, and what is she telling her kids? Elizabeth says the boys love him too. Carly tells her they’re too young to understand. What about when they find out, and what is she going to say to Jason about how the man who sexually assaulted his wife now being Jake’s stepfather? She thanks God that Sonny made her see that it would have been her worst mistake, and prays someone does the same for Elizabeth. She stomps back to Kim. Elizabeth tells Franco that she’s wrong about everything, especially him.

Kim tells Carly, sorry. Carly says Jason is her best friend, and Franco set out to destroy him. Now he’s going to marry the mother of one of Jason’s kids.

Michael says if Nelle can drug his father and convince him that she slept with him, she can fake a pregnancy, or get pregnant and try to pass it off as his. He wants to see a test conducted by a medical professional, and tells her, let’s get started.

Jason explains about his twin brother to Britt. He went AWOL in July of 2012, same year her father shot him and he disappeared. He was taken to Andre, who imprinted his memories on Drew. Drew was sent to Helena, and then to a clinic where he escaped. She says she knows about him being Jake Doe, and that he helped her father escape from the police. Sonny asks if that was always the plan.

In the park, Sam tells Drew that she wasn’t going to let the Navy take him away. He says he wants to be there for Scout’s first Christmas. Sam says he will. Elizabeth and Franco arrive with Jake. Jake tells them that he asked Santa for a fishing rod. He wants to go fishing again with Drew, like they did last summer. It was the best with just the two of them. He asks if he can have some money to win a stuffed animal for Scout. He runs off, and Sam asks Elizabeth if that’s an engagement ring. Franco says he doesn’t expect them to be happy, but say what they need to before Jake gets back. Drew says he’s not Jake’s father, so he doesn’t have a vote.

Carly explains to Kim that Jason is Jake’s father. Drew spent the last two years thinking Jake was his son. Jason hates Franco, and he’s going to do what he thinks is right regardless of the consequences. Kim has to see a patient, but thanks her for the history lesson. Carly messes with the toys some more. Josslyn and Oscar round the corner, and Josslyn asks what Carly is doing there. Carly asks what Josslyn is doing there.

Kim sees Michael, who thanks her for seeing Nelle on short notice. Nelle told him that she’s pregnant with his child, and he told her to prove it. He knows she can’t disclose medical information without permission, but wanted her to know the circumstances. She goes in to see Nelle. Nelle acts like she and her boyfriend are both happy about it, and just wanted to make extra sure, even though she took an EPT.

Elizabeth says she hasn’t told Jake that Drew isn’t his father; she thought they should tell him together. She doesn’t feel that there’s any hurry, and Franco thinks they should let him enjoy Christmas. Drew says it’s public knowledge; it’s out there. He’s drew, not Jason, and they don’t want Jake to find out from someone else. They need to try and help him understand and get through it. Jake comes back sans stuffed toy, and says the game hard, but he knows they can win. Drew says they will in a minute, but they need to have a talk. He asks if he’s in trouble, but Drew tells him no, and it’s nothing they can’t work out. They step away.

Sam asks if Franco is really worried about Christmas, or that Jason will tell truth about what he did. He tells her he decided not to press charges, and she should be thanking him. Sam says he didn’t want a trial, with her and Michael telling everyone what happened. He’d thought they’d arrived at truce, but she says he thought wrong. He might not be legally responsible, but she’ll carry the scars for the rest of her life. Jason lived it too, and he’s not done with him. Franco says it sounds like she’s not done with Jason either.

Jason asks Britt if Drew was put in Port Charles as a sleeper agent. She says there seemed to be an arrangement between her father and Helena, but he didn’t talk to her about it. Jason says he was deliberately shot when they already had Drew. Why weren’t the memories transferred the other way around? She says she doesn’t know, but he says she knows something, and needs to tell them.

Franco tells Sam that she wasn’t surprised when they made the announcement about who was jJason. She knew, and just pretended to be standing by Drew. Maybe she’s just counting the days until she can run back into Jason’s. Sam says maybe he’s hoping to marry Elizabeth before she runs to Jason herself.

Elizabeth explains to Jake that Drew had a brother who he was separated from at Birth. One grew up in Port Charles, and was Jason, his biological father. Jake says he knows; he’s right here. Drew says the thing no one realized, but Jason is his twin. He’s Drew, which makes him Jake’s uncle. Jake gets upset, saying it’s a mistake. Elizabeth knows it’s confusing. He says he’s not confused, and Drew isn’t his uncle; he’s his dad. Drew asks Jake to hear him out. He feels like his father, and Jake will always be his son. It’s tough, but they’re tough, and will face it. Jason is also his father. Jake says he doesn’t want him, and doesn’t need another dad; just him.

Carly tells Josslyn they had an agreement. Josslyn says, sorry, and Carly asks if she’s sorry got caught, or sorry she did it. She limits her own options, and Carly can’t trust her to make good choices. Oscar says his fault.

Kim tells Nelle and Michael that Nelle is approximately six weeks pregnant. She gives Nelle pre-natal instructions, and leaves. Nelle asks Michael is he’s going to apologize for doubting her.

Drew knows it’s hard, but have to face it, and there will be changes. Jake asks how, but he’s not sure. He doesn’t know anything about Jason or what he wants or plans to do. Elizabeth knows Jason wants him to be okay, and they’ll take it a step at a time, do their best to communicate and listen, and figure it out together. Drew tells Jake to remember he’ll always have him, and he’ll always be in his life. Jake says he’ll always be his dad. Elizabeth thinks it’s enough for him for now, and they go back.

Franco asks if everything is okay, but Drew says not really. Jake asks Sam if this means new old Jason is Danny’s dad too. She tells him, yes, and he asks what about Scout? She says that Drew is Scout’s biological father, and Jake asks if that means she’s not his sister anymore. Drew says she’ll always be his sister. He tells Jake to do him a favor and win his baby sister a stuffed polar bear. Jake hugs him, and they exchange I love yous.

Jason tells Britt that the Navy was going to arrest Drew for desertion, but it was cleared it up. Sonny says Drew doesn’t remember his own life, and is holding on to Jason’s; living with Jason’s wife, raising his children, and bought a company with Jason’s money. Faison sent Drew to Cassadine Island; where did he send Jason? Jason says he woke up in a clinic, missing four and a half years. Britt says she doesn’t know and can’t tell them anything. Jason says she does  know something; he can see it in her eyes. Whatever it is, she’s got to tell him. She says what’s the point? He can’t get the years back. He says maybe he can protect his family from her father. She says her father doesn’t care about him. Up until a month ago, he thought Jason was dead.

Elizabeth tells Franco that everyone involved loves Jake, especially Jason. They’re history has nothing o do with Jake. Franco hopes she’s right, and she asks him to trust her; everything will work out. He asks her to please marry him on Christmas.

Oscar explains to Carly that they were doing their homework, and he wanted to talk to his mom about something, and asked her to come. Joslyn says she should have asked, and she’ll go straight home after this, but would like to stay in case Oscar needs her. Carly tells her one hour, and no matter what her part is in the mystery research, it’s over after this. Oscar is on his own. Carly heaves a Jason sigh.

Wait for it…

Carly sees Michael with Nelle. He says he has important news. Nelle smiles.

Drew tells Scout as lost as he is, with everything he doesn’t know, at least she’s his; made out of love, and no one can take it away from him or her. Sam brings some presents down. He tells Sam that she’s going to have to tell Danny, and she says it’s going to be fine. He doesn’t think Jake is. Sam says he has to realize he’s not losing Drew. She doubts Jason is going to take it away. Drew says sometimes when she says Jason’s name, part of him feels like she’s talking about him. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Kim.

Sonny asks why Britt’s father thinks Jason is dead. Dr. Klein and his gunmen followed him back. She says they weren’t working for her father. When Jason dropped in from the skylight, the story went viral, and he was furious, saying Jason was supposed to be dead; the traitor crossed him. Whoever was supposed to kill Jason didn’t do it. Jason says that explains why Klein wanted him, and Sonny says he was working for the traitor. Jason asks if Faison was there to look for the traitor, and she thinks so. But something spooked him, and he left. Jason says the traitor could still be there.

Elizabeth says no matter how much loves Franco, Christmas is about the kids. She doesn’t want to be worrying about her dress. She wants Christmas to be special, and wants the wedding to be special too. She tells him soon. January; February at the latest. Jake comes running to them with a stuffed polar bear. He and Franco high-five.

Nelle says they’re happy she’s here. They just got news. She knew, but Michael insisted she take the test. Michael confirms Nelle is pregnant, and Nelle tells Carly, congratulations, grandma. Ha-ha!

Oscar says his mom left, and Josslyn asks what he wants to do. He says he has to find out tonight. She tells him she can forward the results, and he can open them when he wants or delete them. He says no, he wants her to be with him, and wants to do it now, but not here. They need to find somewhere quiet.

Drew lets Kim in, and she apologizes for just showing up. Sam takes Scout upstairs. Drew asks if it’s about Oscar, and she says in a way. She asks if everything is okay, and he tells her there’s still some paperwork, but he’s no longer AWOL. She knows he doesn’t remember, but he was proud of his service and being a SEAL. He asks how well she knew him. She says she didn’t know him long, but their time together was pretty intense. She got pregnant, and Oscar is his son.

On Monday, Cassandra says she and Finn can help each other, Michael tells Nelle to prove it’s his child, and Kim tells Drew it’s up to him what happens.

General Hospital

Diane remarks on what an eclectic gathering it is. Carly tells them that Jordan and Curtis brought Andre back to answer a few questions. Andrew tells Carly that Curtis texted him, the guy who used to be her best friend. Carly says they’re still friends, he’s just not Jason. Andrew tells Andre to tell the truth; he’s Jason Morgan and the other guy is his twin brother.

At the hospital, David sees Alexis, who apologizes for not returning his texts. She’s embarrassed that he had to extricate himself from her clutches. He says he didn’t mind, and there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. He just doesn’t want to take advantage of her when she’s on the rebound

Julian shows up at Ava’s apartment. He asks if she missed him.

Elizabeth asks Andre, after everything Jake has been through, how could he? Andrew says Andre sabotaged his kid and stole his life. Jordan reminds him that Andre is still in custody, but Andrew asks how she can be objective when she had a relationship with him? Curtis says she went all the way to Cuba to find him, and wants answers herself. Diane says the commissioner is hardly objective, and Andrew says neither is she. Diane tells him feelings are irrelevant. What matters is what she can prove. She can subpoena Andre, and the process could take two weeks to two years, or they can settle it now. Spinelli tries to interject, but she stops him, saying the question is for her client and his brother. Both Jason and Andrew agree to settle it now.

Franco wants to leave, but Elizabeth says she needs to be there, so he decides to stay with her. Diane tells Andre it’s not a legal procedure, but his Miranda rights are in effect. He can remain silent or have a lawyer present. Andre says he’s already been read his rights. He understands what he says can be used against him in court, and he’ll probably get what he deserves. He explains that he developed a procedure to map and transfer human memories. He’d hoped that patients suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s could have their memories preserved and restored. Diane says neither one suffers from those conditions, and asks how they got involved. Andrew says he began his research with the WSB, but they had ethical concerns and shut him down. She asks who financed him after that, but he doesn’t know. The money was sent by wire transfers from offshore accounts. He knew it was possible the procedure could be misused, but thought the long-term benefits outweighed the risks. He tested the procedure on identical twins – Jason Morgan and Andrew Kane.

Alexis blames her daughters for insisting she go out and socialize, and Sam practically ordered David to ask her out. He says he’s enjoyed their time together and would like more, but he’s aware she’s just off a rough break-up. She tells him her ex-husband was just released from prison. He hasn’t been exonerated, but was given a conditional release. David asks if that’s good or bad news, and she says it depends on who you ask. He says he was talking about for her, and she says she has no idea.

Ava hugs Julian, and asks how it happened? He says it’s a long story. She asks why he didn’t let her visit. She went to Pentonville more than once, but every time, he refused to see her. He says he wanted her to go on with her life, and it looks like she has. He tells her that her face is amazing; it’s like new. She wouldn’t go that far, and asks why he’s not in prison. He says he’s been given a conditional release. In the light of Olivia-J’s statement, the verdict has been set aside, and he’s awaiting a new trial. He wonders if his bedroom is still available. Griff shows up with flowers. I’d say that’s a no.

Diane asks if Andre understood them to be willing participants, but he says they never spoke before the procedure; when he first saw them, they were sedated and unconscious. Curtis asks if that didn’t send off any alarms, and what kind of doctor is he? Andre says a desperate one, on the verge of a breakthrough. Jordan says he sold his soul for it. Diane tells them they’re getting off track, and asks if he knew which was Jason and which was Andrew. He says he did. He was instructed to map Jason’s memories, and give them to Andrew. She asks how it affected Jason, and he says it didn’t. It’s like making a copy of your hand. You have the copy, but your hand is unaffected. Andrew’s memories were replaced, and he believes he’s lived Jason’s life.

Andre mapped Andrew’s memories as a baseline, and imprinted Jason’s over them. She asks if he has any idea why the backer wanted the procedure done on Andrew, but he says they never spoke directly. The backer’s goals and motives are a mystery.  They were taken away by the same people who brought them, and in in 2015 one of the subjects surfaced in Port Charles. Andre was expected to establish residence, and monitor him. Andrew goes nuts, grabbing Andre by the collar.

Alexis tells David that she did something bad and self-destructive, but she can’t talk with anyone about it. David says she can talk to him and he’ll keep it confidential. She says Julian’s attorney begged her to see Julian. He’d run afoul of another inmate, and his life was at risk. She was concerned enough to find his sister, but couldn’t get access to her. So, she found out who was paying her attorney’s bills, and blackmailed – no, extorted them. David says extortion suggests physical violence, and she says she would have given his name to a mobster, and he would have been buried in galoshes, or fed to the fishes, or whatever they do. She was prepared to use it for leverage. She says she’s compromised her ethics every time Julian was in her life. David asks why she did it then. Alexis tells him that even after all he’s done, she doesn’t want Julian dead. He asks if it’s because she’s a good, conscientious person, or does she still love him?

Griff gives Ava the flowers, and Julian asks if he’s putting in overtime loving thy neighbor. Griff says he’s no longer a priest, and Julian asks if that was before or after he started sleeping with Ava. Ava is like, hey! and he says sorry, but he finds it ironic that the man who gave them so many lectures on guilt and morality found his way to her bed. She says Griff saved her life, explaining about what happened at the Russian clinic. She tells Julian that Griff also rescued her last night. She did something not as dangerous, but equally impulsive, and he saved her. She and Griff have a meaningful relationship, and he needs to respect that. Julian apologizes, and holds his hand out, but Griff has no intention of shaking hands with his father’s killer. Julian takes this as his cue to leave, and says he’ll text Ava his contact info when he figures out where he’s staying. He tells them to enjoy their new relationship. Ava apologizes to Griff for Julian’s awkward sense of humor. Griff says he’s a murderer, and asks why he’s out of prison.

Andrew asks Andre if he pretended to treat his kid so he could watch him, but Andre says he didn’t pretend. He did everything in his power to help Jake. Diane asks if Andre knows who is who. He says he does, and she says, then tell them. They have the right to know. We do too! I say to the TV.

Andre says they won’t have much use for him once the truth is out, so he’s taking a last chance to explain his intentions. Alzheimer’s and dementia are soul destroying conditions that lay waste to lives. Sam interrupts, saying no one feels sorry for him, and calling him cruel and greedy; he’s acting like it’s no big deal. He took Andrew’s life away and sold it to the backer. Screw him and his intentions; tell them who is who, so they can be done. Andre says he was sent to Port Charles to monitor Andrew. YES!!!! Jason is Jason. Carly pokes Sonny, and Sam looks at her husband.

David apologizes for being intrusive, but Alexis says it wasn’t. She just opened up a vein. Being in AA, she wants to share all the time. He asks if she’s the reason Julian was released, and she says she’s a major factor. He says, despite the negative impact on her life? She tells him there were a few positives mixed in. He is Sam’s father, and also donated bone marrow to save her grandson’s life; she’ll always be grateful for that. She had some of her happiest months with him, but he was lying to her, so although she’s relieved, she has no intention of ever letting him in her life again. Julian appears, and says hello. =

Griff says Olivia-J changes her story, now Julian gets a new trial? Ava says he was coerced. She threatened his family, and he was never a willing accomplice. Griff says maybe not, but he was willing to have his father killed, and there will never be justice for that. Ava asks if they have to revisit that ugliness. Griff says he gets that she loves him, but he sees a man who keeps committing crimes and gets away with it. Ava asks if that isn’t where forgiveness comes in. You believe someone who’s damaged and flawed can be better and change. It doesn’t erase what they’ve done, but it heals them and yourself. Griff asks if that’s what he told her, and she says many times. He calls himself a hypocrite, saying he can’t find forgiveness in his heart for Julian.

Andrew asks how much Sonny is paying Andre? He’ll get away clean, and all he has to do is lie. Andre says he’s not lying. Andrew says he knows his life and memories, and asks why Sonny is turning on him. Sonny says he has nothing to do with this; he gives his word. Andrew says his word means nothing to him anymore. He has a life of his own, and wouldn’t work for him, so Sonny sold him out. Sonny says he has it wrong. Diane asks Andre if he has any proof, but there’s nothing he can access. Jordan asks an officer to take Andre to booking. Andre tells Andrew he’s truly sorry, and Andrew says he truly does not care. Andre is taken away, and Andrew tells Sam it’s time to go. Spinelli says he has proof. The longer this goes on, the more painful it becomes. He has proof that Andrew is Andrew.

Andrew says Spinelli is a hacker, and could create a fake data file. Spinelli says he could, but why chose to inflict more pain? Prolonging this just causes more distress and confusion. His goal is to establish the facts. What Andrew does with them is his business. Curtis suggests Andrew listen. At least he’ll know what he’s up against if he decides to fight. Spinelli takes out a picture of Andrew with his original face, dressed in a uniform. Spinelli says he commends him, calling him “sir.” He’s a Navy SEAL.

Ava tells Griff she’s not making excuses for Julian, but he’s spent his entire life living up to their father’s expectations. Victor was ruthless and brutal, and that was the code Julian was expected to live up to. He vacillated wildly between emulating his father and getting away from him. He’s not like Sonny; it doesn’t come naturally. He was playing a part, pleasing a man who’s long in the grave. Griff says that doesn’t bring his father back, and doesn’t make it any easier watching Julian walking around. He can’t be around it. She wonders if he’s asking her to choose between them.

Alexis introduces David to Julian. Julian asks if he’s treating her, and David says they’re just friends. He tells Alexis he’ll see her later, and jets. Julian asks how long they’ve been friends. She says Sam introduced them and he was at her house for Thanksgiving. She tells Julian this is his first and only warning; stop following her. Don’t make her get a restraining order. He says he’s not following her. He’s there to see a doctor.

Spinelli tells Andrew that he served with honor, has a distinguished service record, and multiple medals and commendations. He went AWOL, and there was no indication of trauma, no conflict, no reason; he simply vanished three months prior to Jason being lost and presumed dead. He thinks the backer might have thought it best to acquire him before Jason, but Diane says the road to hell is paved with speculation. He says he has no more facts, but Jordan does. Being the commissioner, the Navy file is at her disposal. She goes to the laptop.

And we have a match! She tells Andrew to see for himself. He says they’re electronic records, and Spinelli could have created them. Diane says they can issue hard copies, and can match them. In the meantime, she’ll move on the cold case files from 1996. Curtis says they both got screwed, but facts are facts. Waiting around for the hard copy isn’t changing anything. He’s a Navy SEAL, and it’s an impressive badge of honor. Andrew says it would help if could remember one thing about his old life, but he doesn’t. He just remembers Jason’s.

Ava tells Griff that she wasn’t expecting Julian’s release, but she’s happy he’s free, even if it’s conditional. She can’t turn her back on him. Griff isn’t asking her to. He’ll respect their relationship, but hopes she can respect his feelings. He doesn’t want any pretense or to make polite conversation. He doesn’t consent to anything Julian has done. Ava asks what it means for them, and he says she has to decide if she can be with him if he can’t be around Julian.

Julian tells Alexis that he needs to have a bone reset. He had no idea she’d be there, and she doesn’t need a restraining order. She says that remains to be seen. He’d thought they might be in a better place, but she says it’s better for her is she’s far away from him.

Curtis asks Jordan if she saw the look on Andrew’s face when he realized his entire life belonged to someone else. She says Andre has a lot to answer for. Sonny tells Diane to add a bonus to her bill. She tells Jason this one if free, but if he needs her in the future, her normal rate has gone way up. He thanks her for believing in him, and she says he was a pleasure to advocate for, not like some people, and looks at Sonny. She can count on him being reasonable. Spinelli tells Jason maybe he and Andrew should have a private conversation. Jason tells Spinelli he did great, but Spinelli says it doesn’t give him back five years, or console the man who unwittingly took his life. Jason thanks him, and he says it was an honor and a privilege. He hugs Jason until Jason finally says that’s enough. Jason thanks Carly and Sonny, telling them when he was planning his escape, he knew they’d be there for him. Carly hugs him, and Spinelli thinks libations are in order. Sonny asks if that means he wants a drink. Diane tells Jason he still needs to get some paperwork processed, and he tells her to go with them. Everyone leaves all happy.

Andrew asks Sam what she thinks. She says he’s a hero, but he says only on paper. He has no connection to Andrew Kane. Aw, he looks so sad.

Alexis is glad Julian was released, and says a second trial could conceivably go well. She hopes he uses the opportunity to turn his life around, but she can’t be involved. He says because of Sam and the grandchildren, there will always be a connection. Alexis says he’ll have to talk to Sam about that. She can’t participate; he’s worse than a fifth of vodka. David comes by, and asks if everything is okay. Alexis says she was just leaving, and asks him to text her about the restaurant he wants to go to. Julian tells David to be good to Alexis. David says that’s so inappropriate on so many levels, he wouldn’t know where to start, but Alexis is smart and independent, and can speak for herself.

Ava tells Griff that she has no intention of turning her back on either of them. It’s called compromise, a concept her brother never quite grasped. Griff says he’s heard of it. She says in these particular circumstances, it means she’ll arrange her life so there’s as little interaction as possible. She’ll see Julian on her own time. He says it might be more complicated than she realizes, but she says she’s a complicated woman; simplicity bores her. She can make it work, as long as she doesn’t lose him. He says he’s not going anywhere, and kisses her.

Elizabeth says Franco is quiet. He doesn’t have much to say. He’s disappointed. No one has ever accused Drew of being warm and fuzzy, but they managed to coexist. There’s no way Jason can grasp or care that he did crazy things because he had a brain tumor, or that Jake improved. He got through when no one else did. Elizabeth says Jake has confusion enough in Jake’s life, now she has to tall him who his father is. Under normal circumstances she’d have him talk to Andre, but she isn’t in a hurry. She tells Franco that Jason would never do anything to intentionally hurt their son. He’s not going to demand anything; he’ll wait until the time is right. She has faith in him when it comes to Jake.

Andrew says it’s like a slow-motion nightmare; like the game where you pull blocks out one by one, until the structure collapses. He’s found his long-lost twin, but the kicker is, he’s the one who’s lost. He’s not Jason Morgan. It’s the last block. Sam says that’s not true. He says she heard Diane; he can take everything. She says it doesn’t matter, but he says it does to him. Everything they’ve built can be taken. He wonders what they’re going to tell the kids. Sam calls him “Jason,” and is like, oops. He walks out, and tells Jason that he doesn’t care about the DNA; they’re not brothers. Jason tells Sam to take care of herself, and leaves.

On Monday, Franco tells Andre he needs a session, Robin asks Elizabeth not to do that, and Nelle has a Christmas present for Michael.

And once again – YESSSSS!!!!! I called it. It would have been pretty embarrassing had Steve Burton not been Jason, since I’ve been calling him that from the jump.

Z Nation

In Chicago, 10K and Lily look for the others. It’s foggy, and there are suds floating in the air. Foam party! They can barely see two feet in front of them. Lily says it’s FUBAR. 10K bayonets a zombie, and says they have to find Roberta. Everyone is wearing some kind of covering over their mouths.

Doc and Murphy are also in the mess, whacking zombies. They enter a cabin. It’s Sketchy and Skeezy in a barbershop, along with barber Sal. Sketchy says, what’s up, Doc? He’s wearing half-beard, and calls it avant-garde. Doc says they can’t stay; they have to find Roberta. Sketchy says if she still has a pulse, she’s his kind of gal. Doc reminds Murphy that he’s always said, never get out of the boat, but Murphy isn’t anxious to get back in the toxic sh*t either. Sketchy says nuclear fallout, plus chemicals, equals zombie frappe. Murphy thinks the barbershop is the last sliver of paradise, and Roberta is indestructible…ish. Sal asks them to leave their weapons in the box at the door. Murphy insists his cane is just a walking stick, but the barber isn’t fooled. Murphy says they’re getting off on the right foot. He sits in the chair. Doc watches at the window.

Roberta slogs through the sudsy gloom, calling for the others. She starts to feel weird and dizzy.

Murphy says he could die and go to heaven, and the two swindlers tell him, don’t say that, in tandem. Doc can’t find the right memory to remind him, but feels strongly that Sal’s face must have relevance. The barber says his mind is playing tricks, and Doc says, could be. There’s a discussion on the difference between telekinesis and telepathy. Doc says he’s done both on peyote, as well as teleporting. Murphy snores in the chair. Doc says they’re on a one-way trip to hell, and he still finds time for a nap. I’m on that same trip lately, and wish I could catch a nap. Sketchy and Skeevy keep cringing every time Sal puts the razor near Murphy’s throat.

Sketchy looks nervous as the barber shaves Murphy. Sal says his name is short for Salazar, and Doc asks if he’s Albanian. Sketchy and Skeezy hide behind one another. Sal says he’s Greek, and that they invented the sandwich. Sketchy says it was the Romans, so they could eat on the go while raping and pillaging. Murphy says they’re both wrong. It was invented by the fourth Earl of Sandwich because he didn’t want to leave the poker table. Sketchy talks about Thomas Crapper, and Doc says if it was the other way around, they could be eating a crapper and taking a sandwich. Everyone ponders this.

Sketchy says if looks could kill, Sal would knock them dead, and are obviously trying to warn Doc and Murphy. Doc says they’re like ships passing in the night; some harbor, and some torpedo and sink. He suddenly says, Albany, then, Albuquerque. He’ll figure it out. He gets all Zen and meditates, while Murphy asks Sal about baklava.

Above them in the attic, an odd, gigantic leprechaun-looking guy has a gun. Below them, zombies clamor in the basement. Is this like Sweeney Todd?

Roberta continues on. She coughs, and pushes suds out of her way. A zombie tries to grab her, but she mercies it. She sees someone in the dusk, and they run from her.

Murphy is impressed with Sal’s work. He wants to check it out from the back, and Sketchy tells Sal to grant a man his last request. Doc lights a joint. Sal reaches for the chair lever, and Sketchy and Skeevy start talking about a tanning bed Sal has in the back; it’s solar powered. Murphy wonders why they’re acting like everything is a matter of life or death. The dude upstairs looks down through a hole in the floor. He catches Sketchy’s eye, and wiggles his bushy eyebrows. Sketchy shows Murphy to the tanning bed, asking him to sign some papers for his protection, Murphy grabs the clipboard, tosses Sketchy out, and throws the papers on the bench, and. The top sheet has GET OUT! written on it, but he doesn’t see it.

Doc is still wondering where he knows Sal from. Skeezy tries to stop him from broaching the subject. Murphy opens the tanning bed, and we hear zombie noises. He closes it again. Doc gets a scalp massage, and says Sal has magic hands. Sketchy asks if he’s fresh off the boat, and he says by way of Detroit. Doc recalls his good times there. He starts talking about a guy he knew there named Tony Cueball, which was weird, since he had hair down to his knees. Sal says he’s never heard of him, as he tests the razor. Doc suddenly sits up, and says he knew it. It’s Tony. He knocks the wig off of Tony’s head, and he’s bald. Tony opens a trap door (it is like Sweeney Todd) , and Doc nearly falls into the crowd of zombies reaching up from downstairs. Sketchy and Skeevy fight with Tony, and the guy upstairs shoots an opening in the floor, and drops down. Tony tells them to say hello to his little friend. Sketchy and Skeevy say they tried to warn them, and Doc says, next time, try harder.

Outside, Roberta follows the stranger. He’s dressed in a protective suit and wears a helmet. She sees a giant stingray floating through the murky sky. It descends.

Tony tells his little friend, otherwise known as Tiny, to take it easy; they’ll kill them soon enough. Murphy thought they were friends, and Doc says he’s not even a barber. Tony says it’s never been personal. Doc talks about how Tony sucker punched him, stole everything he had, including his underwear, and left him to die. Tony says it was business. They hear something outside the door, and Tony says he’s going to shoot first, and no questions. Sketchy says if that’s who he thinks it is, he’ll want her alive. Doc says, mama brings the pain. Tony tells them they’re the chattiest bunch of marks in the apocalypse. Murphy is surprised it’s a robbery; he thought it was a bunch of sadists. Sketchy says they’re not sadists, they’re capitalists. The door opens, and 10K and Lily come through, saying don’t shoot; they’re unarmed. Murphy tells them that they look like they smell. 10K doesn’t feel good, and throws up, creating a domino effect, and everyone else throws up. It’s like that scene in Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. It goes through the floorboards, where the zombies lap it up. I’m totally grossed out, but then I laugh since, out of all the gory stuff, this is the thing that makes me go, eww!

Roberta follows the stranger. He signals for her to halt. A zombie walks through, but never notices them. She says she needs his help.

Tony says it’s still a robbery. Sketchy and Skeezy get Tony to drop his guns, and chaos ensues, with everyone fighting, and slipping and sliding on the… you know. The machine gun drops down through the trap door, and Doc says he’s too old for this sh*t. Tony is too. Tony says he needs to settle the last score. This is fate giving them a chance to reconcile the past. This time, he will kill him. Murphy comes out, telling everyone to run. The tanning bed zombie – an over tanned, tall blonde, whose skin is totally sagging on her bones – is out.  Sketchy and Skeezy get thrown toward her, and the three of them fall. She snaps at them, and Tiny pulls her off, stomping her head to a pulp. Tony tells Tiny to take that thing out. Skeezy says he’s been bitten, and wonders if he’s going to tan. Sketchy tells him he’s going to Z.

Roberta keeps following the stranger through the foam. She starts to falter, and keels over. She sees the black rainbow.

Skeezy doesn’t want to die. Sketchy says he might go Z, but he won’t die. Sketchy tells him the barbicide (the blue stuff they put the combs and brushes in) will kill anything. Skeevy chugs it down, and Sketchy tells him that he wasn’t supposed to drink it. Tiny and Tony draw their guns. Tony remembers Sketchy and Skeezy conning him once before, and wants to kill them. He doesn’t have enough bullets, so he suggests he and Tiny cut off their arms and legs, and throw them in the basement. Doc says to do them justice, but Tony insists cutting off arms and legs seems just. Skeevy and Sketchy start to argue, and Murphy says to do it the old-fashioned way. Tony wonders if he means dissolve them in acid. Murphy tells the con men that fate decided to screw them; the only game is survival of the fittest. Toss them out and let Darwin do the rest. Tony gives Sketchy a gun, and says there’s one in the chamber; make it count. Sketchy gets sniffley, and Sketchy grabs the gun and puts it to his own head. He threatens to be a mad Z, but Sketchy tells him that he has so much to live for in the next eight to ten minutes. Why don’t they heed Murphy’s advice about the Darwin thing? He’s talking about freedom, independence, choice, a man wrestling fate, riding on the wings of destiny. Tony likes his own idea better. Doc says sometimes the best weapon is upstairs, and asks for a hat.

They count the ballots. There’s a tie between limbs and exile. Tony says somebody didn’t vote. Everyone looks at each other. Doc asks Murphy if he voted, and Murphy says after the Gore/Bush election, it didn’t seem worth it.  

Two guys come in. While they’re getting sick, Sketchy steals a key. Everyone starts talking at once, explaining what’s happened, and Murphy asks if they want to vote. Sketchy wants to say goodbye to Skeezy. He grabs Skeezy, kissing him, transferring the key. Skeezy asks why he never said anything, and Sketchy says he didn’t think he had to. One of the men recognizes them, remembering when they crossed paths before, and how Skeezy bit him. He says he thinks this SOB bit him, and Sketchy says Skeezy bit him too, right here, by his heart. They throw Skeezy out the door. We hear him yelling, and Sketchy says, we get it, you’re dead.  The two men draw their guns, and says it’s an old-fashioned stickup.

Sketchy says whatever they do, please don’t put them in the basement. It’s cold and dark, and he can’t go down there. He’s scared of confined spaces. One of the thieves asks where the booty is – the basement? He thinks they really want to be there, and they order everyone downstairs. The basement door opens, and the zombies rush out. Operation Bitemark (minus Roberta) and Sketchy leave the others in the basement. We hear shooting, and Tony and Tiny come out, covered with blood. Tony says it’s time to end this. Everybody dies. Sketchy asks if he doesn’t want to make a speech or last words.

Someone is trying to get in the door, and the group moves over, leaving Tony and Tiny to face whatever comes through. The door bursts open, and the metal handle on the inside flies off, impaling Tony and Tiny. They slide to the floor. Sketchy asks Skeevy what took him so long, and accuses him of swallowing the key. Doc says they planned this the whole time, and Sketchy says they tried to cut him in, but he almost tanked the whole thing.  Murphy says they’re either masterminds or lying. Doc says he believes them when they’re lying, and he’s scared when they’re not. Murphy asks, all this for what? Sketchy says retirement. They’re taking over the barbershop. Doc says they need to find Roberta.

Roberta opens her eyes to her wasteland vision. The stranger tells her to get up. She has to get up. Roberta sits up, and he tells her she has to keep moving. She picks up her shield and the containers from the lab. Suddenly, the skies are clear, and she’s on a normal road. The man says everything depends on her, and she sees it’s Dr. Teller. He walks away, saying he won’t be there to help, and disappears. The others join her. Murphy says they’ve been looking for her. She leads them down the road. Murphy asks what happened to Sketchy and Skeevy, and Doc says they’re following their own dream. We see a Route 66 sign.

Back at the barbershop, Sketchy tells Skeezy, this is the life. He asks what they should do next, and Skeezy says, get a dog. He wonders if there are any left, and figures there are, somewhere. Sketchy looks at the new haircut Skeezy has given him. A half-haircut to match his beard. He says it’s perfect. The zombies downstairs make noise, and he stomps on the floor. He tells Skeezy they’re ready to kill the competition. Skeezy says they were born ready. They laugh like hyenas, and we see that the name of the shop is Curl Up & Dye.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

Today, General Hospital was replaced by football, and Once Upon a Time was replaced by Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town. So in keeping with this week’s theme of gratitude, I’m thankful Z Nation was on.

Z Nation

To make this an easier read, the show flipped back and forth from the past – a zombie attack at a television station – to the present – Operation Bitemark discovering the station.

We see a weather broadcast. All seems normal.

Kaya locks herself in a safe room, and watches as the Zona soldiers look around. She tells Nana that they won’t find them unless they know where to look. She turns on the monitors. She wonders what they’re looking for, and says Simon would know. She gets on the radio with a mayday from Kaya in the Skya, requesting assistance. She tells Citizen Z if he’s out there, she needs him. The main dude looks at the camera, holding up his radio.

Doc wishes they could do something. Murphy says they’re even, since she can’t help them either. Roberta says they need to find a way to boost the signal. They see the remnants of a small plane in the street, and looking up, a huge satellite dish on a roof. Roberta says that ought to boost their signal.

The building is barricaded from the inside. 10K says the town must have turned fast, and suggests breaking down the doors, but the others are concerned the noise might alert the zombies.

Breaking news. The weathergirl, Carly, sits in the anchor’s chair, and talks about the flight crash, and says terrorism hasn’t been ruled out. She gets applause from the other staff, and intern Doug tells her it was very newsy. Station manager Bruce says it’s not about her, just deliver the information simply and with empathy. He tells the staff disasters mean eyeballs glued to the screen, and it’s action news time. Jack, the real news anchor – a Ted Baxter (The Mary Tyler Moore Show) type – walks in, and asks if he missed a memo, thanking Carly for keeping his seat warm. He’s. Bruce wants a live report, and two guys run out to the news van.

Doc opens the same van. They find a lot of supplies, along with some gas. Roberta says the van isn’t going to drive again, but she has the keys to the news station. They go inside, and she says somebody made a stand, and never left. 10K hopes it’s not a trap. Murphy asks if they heard that. They didn’t, but we did. A zombie flies out of one of the rooms in attack mode.

Carly cries in the bathroom. She gives herself a pep talk, telling herself to embrace her moments. Someone starts banging on the side of the stall. She sees their shoes, and asks Helen if she’s sick, adding that sometimes Taco Tuesday fights back. She talks to herself in the mirror, saying it’s showtime, as Helen makes zombie gurgling noises inside the stall.

Doc comes out of the same stall that Carly did, and sees a zombie trying to get out of the adjacent one. He opens the stall, and whacks Doug in the head with a hammer. In the hallway, he tells Murphy something horrible happened in there, and Murphy says to have some dignity. Doc says that’s not what he meant, but Green Bay is the TP capital of the world (I verified this – it is), and the first to develop splinter free TP.

Kaya watches the men searching the place, and wonders what they’re looking for. She sees someone open the secret door, and gets her gun ready. She watches as they come down the ladder, and cracks them in the face with the butt of the gun. She tells Nana to stay back, and prepares to shoot. She asks what they want, and turns the man over. He says he wants to see his boy. It’s Citizen Z. Finally. She tells JZ that it’s his father, and the boy embraces him.

Simon wonders if he’s really there. He’s dreamt of this moment for two years. He says it was a long walk. She says his stupid little plane went down, didn’t it? He says the pilot did everything he could, but was mercied on impact. He tells Nana that Kaskae was a great man, and saved his life. He gives her a necklace that Kaskae wanted her to have. He asks about JZ’s name, thinking Kaya named him after the rapper, but she says it’s Junior Z. She totally named him after his dad. She tells him that he owes her 600 diaper changes.

Operation Bitemark goes to the basement, where they find a gas-powered generator.

Bruce tells someone on the phone that he doesn’t care if everything is grounded, get the chopper in the air. They have survivors, and they’re going live to the crash. Jack tells the viewers that there was a plane crash near Green Bay, and preliminary reports say there are survivors. They go live to the crash site, where we see the two reporters running as zombies are attacking them. Jack keeps asking them to describe what’s going on, and they lose the feed. Carly tells the viewers that they’re having technical difficulties. The scene is chaotic, and they’re working to verify any information. Jack asks why the reporters were running from the story, and the lights go out.

10K gets the lights working at the station. They look around, and Roberta says it looks like nothing has been touched in eight years. Murphy says zombies are bad for your health; film at eleven. Roberta tells the group to look for anything that can help them contact Kaya.

Kaya tells Simon that they have uninvited guests. She wants to make it clear that she thought he was from Zona, and her hitting him wasn’t a passive aggressive move. She asks what they could be looking for, and Simon tells her it was a top-secret base for thirty years; it could be anything. Kaya hasn’t intercepted anything from them in a while, and Simon wonders why they would leave a rich, hermetically sealed Z-free paradise. Why are they here?

Roberta and Lily try to adjust the satellite dish. Murphy says, everyone dead; film at eleven. He tells them he’s just a natural. Doc asks if being a zombie messiah not enough; he wants to be an anchor too? Murphy starts reading from the teleprompter about the crash, and they hear zombie noises.

The reporters come back from the field, one bleeding badly. The other says everyone is going insane; someone bit Mike. Bruce says that the survivors must be in shock, but the reporter says he doesn’t think so; he’s the one that’s in shock. Mike tells them to stay inside; it’s not safe. Bruce decides to put him on the air. The other reporter thinks he should go to a hospital, but Bruce says they’ll just bandaid him up. Jack says it looks brutal, and announces a special report. He says their reporter, Mike, has just returned from the site of disaster. He’s going to tell them in his own words what he saw. Mike just stares at the camera, and Jack says he knows it was a harrowing experience, but try to tell the viewers what it was like. Mike looks like he’s about to pass out, and projectile vomits on one of the staff.  Jack calls for a medic, and Mike grabs the other reporter, biting him. He starts to grab and bite whoever is closest. Jack says they’re going to a commercial, and to call security. He books, but Carly stays at the desk, telling the viewers a curfew has been issued, and to stay indoors. It’s not clear if the mob behavior is related to the crash. Bruce calls for a first aid kit, but gets bit instead. Doug tells Carly they’ve got to go. She asks what’s happening, and he thinks it’s zombies. Mike comes toward them, and they run. Carly says they need to get to the roof. They grab cameras and run toward the stairs. Jack is trying to sneak out, and is stopped by Mike. He tells Mike that what he needs are antibiotics. Jack sees Bruce coming toward him from the other side, and asks if it’s a problem with contract negotiations. He’s won nine Emmys, and is the face of the station. Bruce and Mike converge on Jack, and feast on his neck.

Doc crowns a zombie with a hammer. 10K joins him and Murphy, showing them an Emmy he found. Doc thinks the place went down during a newscast, and it would make a helluva blooper reel. Zombie Jack pops up from out of nowhere, and 10K tosses the Emmy to Murphy, who puts it through Jack’s eyeball. He says now he knows what local Emmys are good for.

Kaya tells Simon that she can reroute power and lock them in. She calls the leader the man with a plan, and they watch the Zona emissaries on the monitors. Simon wonders again why they would travel from a secure paradise to a wasteland. He sees a zombie he calls Scampy, and says he thought he’d lost him. He’d run a pipe through him – we see it’s still through him – but he won’t die. Kaya says he’s one of the mad Z’s. She’s had unconfirmed radio traffic about them. One of the Zona soldiers shoots him, but it only pisses Scampy off, and Scampy attacks him.

Kaya and Simon venture out. Kaya says it’s a real bummer, and Simon tells her it explains a lot. Scampy sees them, and Kaya tells Simon, here comes your friend, but he says it’s more like an acquaintance he keeps murdering. Scampy waits at the bottom of the stairs. Simon tells Kaya he’s smarter than the average Z, and she says, let’s hope we’re smarter.

Simon asks Scampy, what’s up? and says sorry about the pipe. The pipe gets stuck in the stair railing, preventing Scampy from getting to them. Simon and Kaya take off. Simon tells her that he thought he’d lost Scampy seven years ago. She says for someone who’s been through eight years of a zombie apocalypse, he’s unrealistically optimistic. Scampy makes it up the stairs, and they run, but the end of the hallway has no stairs and it’s too high to jump. Simon tells Kaya to get back, and shoots Scampy in the knees. I say the eff-word out loud because this doesn’t slow him down any. He’s like Yul Brynner in the original Westworld; he just keeps coming. Simon keeps the pipe between them, and bends Scampy over the railing. Kaya helps to push him over, and he falls, but he’s lying there still alive dead undead. Kaya asks if this is for real. She sees the man with a plan, and yells to him, asking what he wants. She and Simon head in other direction.

Lily and Roberta decide to go to the roof.

Carly grabs Doug, and pushes him into the ladies’ room. They block the door with a garbage can. She starts to put soap on a paper towel, and tells Doug to get toilet paper. They can make the floor slippery for those things. He opens a stall door, and before Carly can stop him, Helen comes out. She kills Doug, and starts to go after Carly, but slips and falls on the paper towel Carly dropped, cracking her head open. Before Carly can take a breath, Doug gets up. She whacks him with her purse, and shoves him into a stall. She goes out into the hallway, and there are zombies everywhere.

In the hallway, Operation Bitemark is confronted with the zombie news team.

Kaya tells Simon that he’s not just smart, but impossibly brave. He says he didn’t come all this way to die in front of her. He kisses her, and she says, two years away, and he’s a better kisser. He tells her absence makes the heart grow fonder. She says she’ll kill the power; he can capture the dudes. He leaves, and she says she loves that man. Me too. I’m so glad to see him back. Where’s Pup though? Did he die in the crash, or did he not go with Citizen Z? If not, where is he? The important questions.

Roberta tells everyone to run for the stairs.

Carly runs up the stairs, the zombies following her. She falls, and drops her phone. She hears the chopper pilot say that he’s approaching, and she somehow grabs her phone, the zombies grasping at her. She says she’s coming, and slams the roof door in their dead faces.

Kaya looks on the monitor, and sees someone in the control room. She tells Nana, who’s just been calmly smoking her pipe through the whole thing, to stay quiet. She goes to the control room, and sees the man with a plan fiddling with the computer. She cocks her gun, telling him that she’s Kaya in the Skya, and he’s in the wrong control room.

She fires a warning shot, and says now that she has his attention, who is he and why is he there? He says it’s of critical importance, and she asks to whom. She hears Simon and gunshots, and the man starts to get up. She tells him to sit right there, but he says it’s time for him to go. She keeps the gun on him as she’s backing into the hallway, and he sits back down. Simon is methodically shooting zombies in the knees. Scampy is back – come on now – and they struggle. Another zombie grabs Simon’s leg, and Kaya whacks Scampy from behind. They proceed to beat both zombies to a pulp. They see the Zona helicopter take off. Simon tells Kaya that they have to figure out what they were looking for. Kaya says she had him, but had to let him go; sorry. He says she saved his life, and she tells him that he owes her one then.

Carly tells the pilot she’s at the landing pad, and he’s her only way out. He tells her he’s inbound, and will be there in five minutes. She sets up the camera as zombies bang on the door. She says it’s an Action News Nine special report from the top of the broadcast center. The crash pales in comparison to the epidemic of the dead or something, whatever they are. Because she’s a professional, she’ll broadcast when she can, but they should take care of each other and be safe. It’s all they can do now. The helicopter starts to descend, and the roof door starts to open against the barricade.

Operation Bitemark goes out onto the roof. Roberta says they’ve got to make a long-distance phone call, and Lily hooks up the equipment. Zombie Carly comes at Roberta, who shoots her. Murphy says the door was barricaded from the outside, and Roberta says she died alone on the roof. Doc says she was waiting for Chopper Nine to rescue her. 10K says, that is harsh.

Kaya tells Simon that whatever was on the disks has been wiped clean and transferred to a hard drive. Nothing is recoverable. They hear Roberta’s voice coming through. Simon says it’s Citizen Z there, with Kaya in the Skya. Roberta says she heard Kaya’s mayday, and asks if she’s okay. Kaya says she is now; Simon’s home. Simon asks what their status is, where’s Murphy, and how about Addie and the others? Roberta tells him that they lost contact with Addie, Lucy is dead, and she and Murphy escaped Zona. He says that Zona just attacked them, and stole all of their files. They don’t know what was on the disks, but the name on the files is Black Rainbow. Roberta says black rainbow is real, and we see her black rainbow vision.

Ted Baxter’s Ad-Lib Eulogy for Chuckles the Clown

Ladies and gentlemen, sad news. One of our most beloved entertainers, and close personal friend of mine, is dead. Chuckles the Clown died today from – from uh – he died a broken man. Chuckles, uh, leaves a wife. At least I assume he was married, he didn’t seem like the other kind. I don’t know his age, but I guess he was probably in his early sixties; it’s kind of hard to judge a guy’s face especially when he’s wearing big lips and a light bulb for a nose. But he had his whole life in front of him, except for the sixty some odd years he already lived. I remember, Chuckles used to recite a poem at the end of each program. It was called “The Credo of the Clown,” and I’d like to offer it now in his memory – “A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.” That’s what it’s all about, folks, that’s what he stood for, that’s what gave his life meaning. Chuckles liked to make people laugh. You know what I’d like to think, I’d like to think that somewhere, up there tonight, in his honor, a choir of angels is sitting on whoopee cushions.
