What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jordan says she appreciates Dante coming back to work on this case, and he says, sure. As far as Jason’s concerned, he couldn’t have gotten far, especially if he’s been shot. Jordan agrees, and they arrive at the interrogation room. Dante says, poor kid, but Jordan says, that remains to be seen.

In the room, Elizabeth asks if Scotty can’t make them take the cuffs off, and he says he’ll speak to them. Don’t worry. He’ll do everything in his power to protect Cameron. She says, don’t worry? Her son’s just been arrested for shooting Jason. Cameron says, he didn’t shoot Jason, okay? He didn’t shoot anybody. Why won’t anybody listen to him?

Sonny puts a fancy drink in front of Nina, and she says, what’s this? He says, the Tan-O-tini; it’s his own creation. She asks if she should try it, and he says, come on. She takes a sip, and says, that is delicious. Does she detect a little tangerine? Maybe a little spice? He says she has a nice palate. Squeezed with a little smoked chili bitters, right? Makes it spicy. She tells him, I bet you say that to all the girls, and he says, he’ll let her get back to her… He indicates her phone, and she says, that’s all right. She wasn’t calling anyone. She was checking out some apartment rentals there in Nixon Falls. He says, so she’s thinking of staying there, and she says she’s considering it. They smile at each other. My pipe dream of a couple.

Jax holds the door for Josslyn, and asks if she needs some help. She says, does he? and he says, she’s right; they’re wounded. Good thing Trina was injury free, so she could drive them all the way back from Nixon Falls. She says she’s sorry Nina didn’t come back, and he says, that’s okay; there will be other trips. It’s always too soon to quit. Josslyn laughs, and asks how many quotes he has. He says, enough to annoy her into telling him what’s really going on. Every time he asks her about the ankle boot or college, she gives him a vague answer. Her dad’s just not buying it. She says she was just worried about mom. She was so distracted, she didn’t even grill Josslyn on why she was in Pennsylvania with Jax, instead of at the volleyball tournament. She’s not complaining, but something seems really off with her mom. Did she give him any details?

Cyrus says he appreciates the representatives of the Five Families gelato extending an invitation to his first meeting of the Family heads. Shall they begin? Carly walks in, dazzling in white, and says, not so fast. She walks to the head of the table, and says, now they can begin. Cyrus says, Mrs. Corinthos was not on the guest list, and Carly says, an oversight, she’s sure. There’s plenty of room at the table. Just like there’s plenty of room outside for the rest of her people. Cyrus says, that’s all well and good, but what is she doing there?

Britt tells Jason, she’s doing this under protest; it’s completely against medical advice. If he passes out, or pops a stitch and starts bleeding out all over his nice, clean shirt, she refuses to take responsibility. He tells her, she said that, and she tells him, she’s saying it again. This is ludicrous. He was just bleeding out, and now he’s dressed. He says he’s got to get to Carly. She’s in over her head.

Carly says, as they know, her husband is dead, but his organization isn’t. It’s strong and stable. The only change is the person sitting in Sonny’s seat. From now on, that would be her.

Cameron says, Elizabeth believes him, right? He picked up the gun, and saw Britt being kidnapped. Scotty says, that could show intent. Never say that. He didn’t tell that to the cops, did he? Cameron says he only tried to tell them that he didn’t do it. Jordan comes in, and Scotty says, for cryin’ out loud. Can she take the cuffs off? She says that’s why she’s there. Cameron’s not going to give her a problem, right? He says, why would he? He didn’t do it. He didn’t shoot Jason. Jordan tells Officer Miller to take Cameron to booking, and the cop says, let’s go. They leave, and Jordan says, right now, the charge is reckless discharge of a firearm. They’ll see what the security footage tells them. She leaves, and Elizabeth asks Scotty, right now, what is Jordan talking about? He says, if the footage shows that Cameron intentionally fired, it will change to assault with a deadly weapon.

Jax tells Josslyn the just spent hours car in the car. That’s why his shoulder hurts right now. She says, sit and ice it, or lay down. She wants to take his temperature, since fever is a sign of infection. He asks how she knows that, and she says she asked questions at the clinic, and read the aftercare printout. She tells him, sit. She’ll get him some water, and maybe he’d like a snack. They could watch a movie. He says, as long as he gets to pick the movie, and she says, fine. She leaves, and Jax says, come on, Carly. What are you up to?

Britt says, maybe Carly would like it if Jason collapsed at her feet. She could use it as a diversion. She can find something meaningful to whisper in his ear while he bleeds to death. He says he’s not going to bleed to death, but she says, contraire. He just went into hypovolemic shock because he didn’t have enough blood to function. He still doesn’t, since Carly couldn’t give him a full transfusion. They still need his minion to deliver. She shudders to think of where it’s coming from, but if he doesn’t get it, he’ll go back into shock, and there will be nothing she can do to save him.

Carly says, please, everyone, take your seats. They all sit except Cyrus, who says, of course (🍷) they all regret Carly’s loss, but being Sonny’s widow doesn’t automatically make her fit to lead his organization. She says, she and Sonny shared everything. She’s been involved in every aspect of the business for some time now. She needs to protect her family, and take care of the business. She asks Cyrus to take his seat so they can proceed. Or if he has misgivings, and is too afraid to answer to her, he can leave. Ms. Wu tells Cyrus, sit down, and he does. She says she has a few questions for Carly. What is her intention for the organization, and is she equipped to maintain control of her late husband’s territory? Cyrus says, good question. Well, actually that’s two questions, so maybe Cyrus isn’t equipped with basic math.

Scotty tells Elizabeth, sit and take it easy. This could take a while. They’re going by the book. She says, the judge said Cameron couldn’t get in any more trouble, but he says, that was a year ago. She says, Cameron is on probation, but Scotty says, it’s fine. It’s been sealed up, and they can’t use it for any of the charges. She says she’s just making sure, and asks what the new charges will be. He says he doesn’t know. They’ll have to wait and see what the evidence shows.

Josslyn asks Jax, what are they watching? but he says, before they watch a movie, tell him what’s really going on with her. She says, nothing, and he says she told him she felt like everything was going wrong. What did she mean? She says she was just being dramatic, and he says he knows she wanted to play in the tournament. She’d hoped it would get her off Southern Coastal’s waitlist. Then she hurt her ankle. He knows it’s devastating, and he doesn’t want her to suppress her feelings and put on a brave face. She says she’s not, and he says, then talk to him. She knows she can. Josslyn is literally saved by the doorbell, and opens the door to find Dante. He says he was wondering if he could have a word with her dad, and she invites him in. She tells Jax, look who it is, and Dante apologizes for coming there unannounced. He looks at them both, and asks, what happened? Josslyn says, a volleyball injury, and Jax says, long story. What can he do for Dante? Dante says, it’s police business, and Josslyn says, he’s a cop again? Great… if it’s something he wants. He says, it’s nothing official; he’s helping with a case. Jax wonders what it has to do with him, and Dante says he’s looking for Carly. He’s looked everywhere, and there’s been no sign of her. Has she been in touch? Josslyn says they spoke to Carly earlier, and Dante asks if she said where she was going. Jax asks, what’s going on, and why does Dante need to find Carly?

Carly asks the Family heads if they remember a  year ago, before Cyrus arrived. There were no warehouse explosions, no businesses were targeted. It was an efficient, cooperative, and mutually profitable organization. Her people are Sonny’s people, and they know how to run the business and deal with interlopers. Cyrus says, see here… and she says she won’t let him use Port Charles to spread his business across the eastern seaboard. She’ll consider it an act of war, and act swiftly with no mercy, like Sonny would. Cyrus says she’s too reckless, and emotionally unstable, and she tells him to watch his tone, and watch his step. She’s calling the shots, and he doesn’t want to make himself a target. He says they can’t stand there while Carly is threatening them with a unilateral power grab. She’s not part of their organization, and has never run more than a hotel. She made a mistake. The members understand what’s best for them, and what’s best for them is him.

Britt gives Jason a protein drink, and he asks why he can’t move around. She says, so he can go after Carly? but he says, no. Just walk around to do things for himself. She tells him to finish the drink, and says, they’re kicking in. That’s a good sign. If it’s any comfort, when Carly left, she seemed to know what she was doing. He says, Carly is good at bluffing.

Sonny says, it’s a half mile up the road from the Tan-O? and Nina says, it’s a cute street. Sonny says, it’s a year’s lease. Does she know how long… Eli comes in, and says Nina is sticking around? Good news. He thought she was going home. She says, Nixon Falls isn’t getting rid of her yet, and Eli says, sounds like cause for a celebration. Let him take her to the fanciest place in town. She says she doesn’t need to do any more research for the article, and he says she still needs to eat. He was thinking candlelight, wine, and a nice meal; just the two of them.

Nina says she thinks Eli is getting ahead of himself. She hasn’t found a place yet, so they need to hold off on the celebration until she’s settled. He says he’ll hold her to it. Until then, if she needs help finding a place, call him. Sonny says, Lenny and Phyllis went out to dinner, and Eli says he wouldn’t dream of intruding on their date, but maybe he’ll stay for a drink. Nina says she has a call scheduled with Crimson, so if they’ll excuse her… Play nice. She leaves, and Eli looks at his phone. He says he has business to attend to of his own. Tell Phyllis and Lenny that he stopped by to see how they were doing. Sonny says, they’re doing great, and Eli leaves. Sonny goes behind the bar, and Nina comes back. He says, that was quick, and she says she’s discouraged at how well Crimson is running without her. Elijah left? Sonny says, yeah, and she says she knows he can’t stand Eli. He says, what gave her that idea? and she asks, what’s the problem this time? He says he doesn’t think she should go out with Eli. He doesn’t want to see her hurt again. She says, hmm… Is that what this is really about?

Cyrus would like to point out, that although they pay their respects to the memory of Sonny, they’re not there to be reminded of the good old days. They’re looking to the future. He can deliver extraordinary profits, for his business and theirs. It’s up to them. Are they going to let Carly deprive them of their rightful share of a new market? They need to evict her from the table, right here and right now. Carly stands up, and says, if they think for one minute their future will be stable with Cyrus, think again. Everyone knows Cyrus’s operation will swallow their territories one by one, and he’ll trample them in his wake. Before they decide, they need to know, any action will have consequences. Cyrus can attest to the fact that he’s lost before, and he’s about to lose again. She smiles at Cyrus.

Dante tells Jax and Josslyn, Jason escaped. Shots were fired, and there was one fatality. Josslyn asks if Jason is okay, but Dante says he’s not sure, but they think Jason took a shot. He doesn’t know how bad, but Britt is with Jason. Whether she’s a hostage or not, she’s a doctor. Josslyn says, Jason wouldn’t take a hostage, and Dante says, at any rate, Britt will look after Jason. Jax asks why Dante wants to speak to Carly, and Dante says, if Jason is involved, Carly is involved. Jax says he and Josslyn just got back from Pennsylvania. They talked to Carly on the phone on the way back, but that’s it. Dante’s phone dings, and he looks at it and frowns. He says he’s got to go. Let him know if they hear from her. Jax says, will do, and Dante leaves. Josslyn asks if Jax thinks there’s a chance Dante is wrong, and Jason wasn’t hit. She hopes he’s okay, because she really couldn’t stand to lose Jason too.

Cameron says, they took his fingerprints and photo, but he’s not guilty, and Elizabeth says she believes him. They’re just going by the book, and following the rules. Jordan comes in, and says she got the tests back from forensics. The blood on the bullet they tested confirms their theory that the bullet hit Jason. They still need to check the gun Cameron was holding. Cameron says he didn’t shoot Jason; he swears. Jordan says she’d like to interview Cameron, and Cameron says she can ask him anything. Scotty says he wants to be present, and Elizabeth asks if Cameron is okay. He says he’s fine, but let him do this. He needs to clear some things up. She says she’ll be right outside. Jordan turns on the recorder, and asks Cameron to tell her why he was holding the gun. He says he doesn’t know; it all happened so fast. He can’t remember picking up the gun. Jordan says she understands; there was a lot going on. It was a chaotic situation. Scotty asks if there’s another question coming, and Jordan says, sometimes when you’re experiencing a traumatic event, you can blank things out, like firing a weapon and shooting someone. Someone you think killed your stepfather, who you loved. Cameron says she thinks he did it, and she asks if he’d remember if he did. He flashes back to calling Jason a killer in the hospital, and he says, he didn’t… Jordan reminds him that he said he couldn’t remember picking up the gun, and everything happened fast. Is it possible he pulled the trigger, and blocked it out? Cameron says, no, and Scotty says, all right. Cameron looks freaked out, and Scotty tells him, take it easy. He tells Jordan, we’re done here.

Brando answers his phone, and says, when?… Okay, he’ll let them know. Carly says, contrary to what Cyrus is implying, she has no desire to encroach on their businesses or take over their territory. Brando tells Cyrus something, and Cyrus says, son of a bitch. One of his shipments was destroyed as it was leaving town. It’s an act of war. Carly says she can’t confirm or deny her people were involved, but bringing a shipment through her territory is a hostile act, and she could quantify the response as a necessary retaliation. Are they going to sit back and let Cyrus take over their territories? Cyrus says he’s offering them a piece of the action, and a fair deal. Carly asks, who believes Cyrus knows play fair. Anyone? Mr. Bashima gets up, and goes over to Carly. He says, condolences. Welcome to the table. There will always be a seat for her. He holds out his hand, and they shake. Carly thanks him, and says he’s very gracious. Mr. Novak comes over to her, and says, his sincere condolences. He’s hoping for a harmonious relationship. Carly thanks him, and hopes there’s no repeat of the warehouse. He says, bygones? and holds out his hand. They shake, and Carly says, lessons learned. Ms. Wu tells her, congratulations. I’m guess she’s happy that there’s another chick on board. Carly thanks her, and says, we do what we must. Ms. Wu says, here’s to better days, and I wonder why she doesn’t shake hands. Custom? Cyrus looks at Carly.

Elizabeth asks if Jordan is all done with grilling her son, and Jordan says, she understands how upset… but Elizabeth says she has no idea. It’s tense enough at home, and she just accused Jake’s brother of shooting his father. How is she going to explain it? It’s like a bomb has been dropped on her already fragile family. Jordan says she can imagine how devastating it is. Cameron believes Jason shot and killed his stepfather. Did he ever mention making Jason pay? Elizabeth asks if Jordan is interrogating her now, but Jordan says, no… maybe. She’s known Cameron a long time, and thinks he’s a good kid, but she has to do her job. She can’t let her feelings about the family get in the way. That’s why she has to do it by the book. Elizabeth tells Jordan to apply her professional objectivity, while she goes in to see her son. Jordan says, one more thing. She knows it was traumatic. Is it possible Cameron shot Jason and blocked it out? Elizabeth says, that’s not what happened. Cameron says he didn’t shoot Jason, and she believes her son. He didn’t shoot Jason.

Carly tells Cyrus, he might as well leave. He has no more business there. He says, don’t be too comfortable in that chair. She’s playing in the big leagues now. She says she knows what she’s doing, and he says, destroying one shipment might have made a splash for the crowd, but she can’t sustain it on her own. Speaking of which, where’s Jason? She says, he didn’t hear? Jason escaped. He says, it’s only a matter of time before Jason is found, and she says, too bad the same can’t be said for his shipment. Cyrus tells Brando, let’s go. They need to find Jason before the cops do. They leave, and at the door, Brando turns to look at Carly. Carly tells the guard that she needs a moment. She’ll be right out. He leaves, and she sits down, taking a deep breath.

Britt wonders what happened to Carly’s guy who said he was getting more blood, and Jason says maybe he had to go somewhere else. She says, and do what? Guard Carly at the meeting? Carly would never put Jason at risk to have an extra bodyguard. He says, Carly’s not supposed to be there; it’s supposed to be him. She says she can see he’s worried, and knows he wants to help but… Jason says, she’s right. Him showing up this would be proof that they’re vulnerable. It’s better for him to stay away, and let them think he’s still a threat. It will give them leverage. Britt asks, how? and he says, never mind. She asks if he thinks he’s said too much. It’s not like they’re strangers, stuck in an elevator, telling each other their life stories. They’re fugitives. Or is she technically a hostage? She’s lost track. He asks if she feels like a hostage, and she says she feels like someone who almost died.

Carly closes her eyes, and her guard comes in, saying, someone is here for her. She asks who it is, and Dante walks in. He says, hey, Carly. He thought he might find her there.

Sonny tells Nina, what you do when you don’t have your own life to focus on, you’re aware of what’s around you. You watch and listen, and from what he sees, Eli would be a bad boyfriend for Nina. She says, whoa. Who said boyfriend? If he’s watching and listening so much, he would know she’s not in the market for a romantic involvement with anyone. Sonny asks why she left the door open, and she says she didn’t want to humiliate Eli, especially in front of him. He doesn’t deserve that. What’s with them anyway? She thought Phyllis made them call a truce. He tells Nina, look out for Elijah. He doesn’t fault the guy for trying. She’s beautiful – he laughs – she’s accomplished, kind, fun to be around, and honest. He doesn’t think Eli is good for her. She says, what he said earlier about… He says, yeah, he’s paying attention to her, and maybe he is a little jealous.

Josslyn tells Jax, something’s not right. Carly hasn’t even read her texts. Jax says, she’s probably busy, helping Jason escape, or taking care of him somewhere else. Josslyn says, it’s a relief to think Carly is with him, and Jax says he hopes not. He’s hoping her mother will distance herself, now that Sonny is gone. She says, her mother would never abandon Jason. He’s family. He says, Jason has been accused of murder. If Carly is helping him – and he prays not – she’ll be an accessory. It’s trouble Carly doesn’t need, or Josslyn. He wishes Carly wouldn’t be a part Jason’s life, but Josslyn says she doesn’t care. Jason said he didn’t do it, and as long as Carly is with Jason, she’s okay.

Carly asks what Dante is doing there, and he tells her, an informant said she might be at a meeting there. She says, informant? and he says, police business. He was asked to help out with a case. She says, she sees; what case? He says he thinks she knows. He’s surprised Jason isn’t there. She wouldn’t know where he can find Jason, would she? She says she hasn’t seen him, and he says, it sounds like she knows Jason escaped police custody earlier.

Elizabeth asks, what happened? and Scotty says Jordan tried a bunch of psychological mumbo jumbo on Cameron, and Cameron got confused. She says she and Jordan talked outside; it will be okay. She tells Cameron that she loves him, and he says he loves her too. He’s sorry he screwed everything up. She says he hasn’t. He’s the bravest, most loyal person she knows, and she’s proud of him. He says he doesn’t know why. He picked up the gun, and ruined everything, his life, his family… She says, they’ll get through this; she’ll make sure. He says they don’t even believe him. He can tell. He asks if she thinks he shot Jason, and she says she doesn’t care how angry he was. She believes him. They hug, and Officer Miller comes in. He says they need to take a gunpowder residue test.

Jordan looks at the computer, and says, I’ll be damned.

Britt tells Jason that she was immobilized. The cap was off the needle, and she was two seconds away from getting an injection that would have killed her, but then he showed up. It’s an overused cliché, but he saved her life. You saved my life with that cup of coffee; you saved my life with a ride. No. He came into her office, and stopped them. He literally saved her life. What she’s trying to say is, she owes him. Whatever illegal business he and Carly are conducting, their secret is safe with her.

Jordan tells Elizabeth and Scotty, in reviewing the security footage, it appears Jason was hit by a bullet fired from behind Cameron. She’s waiting for the ballistics report, but she’s not expecting that it was Cameron who hit Jason. Elizabeth asks if Cameron can go home, and Jordan says, if it goes the way she thinks it will, she’ll drop all the charges.

Sonny hopes he didn’t make Nina uncomfortable with what he said, but she tells him, she’s fine. Absolutely good. She wants to start arranging to look at some places. Sonny says he thought he’d chased her out, but she says, no. She’ll see him later. He says he’ll see her later, and heads outside with some trash. She says, oh, Nina. What are you doing?

Behind the Tan-O, Eli asks a guy, why the hell did he text Eli to meet him there? It’s not the time or place. He paid dude’s bail. Leave him alone. Dude says he needs more cash, and Eli says he doesn’t like a shakedown. Dude asks, who’s got more to lose, him or Eli? Sonny overhears them, and Eli takes out his wallet, handing dude some money. Sonny watches, crouching down so he can’t be seen.

Jax tells Josslyn that he knows it’s hard, but the best thing is to wait for her mother to contact them. She says she knows he’s right, and maybe it’s good they haven’t heard anything. That means Carly is taking care of Jason. He says, whatever Carly is doing, she’ll be in touch when she can. In the meantime, they can talk about what’s really going on with Josslyn.

Dante tells Carly, they know Brick was driving, and Britt was a hostage. Talk to him. The police know Jason was hurt, and she knows what that means. Everyone involved is going to be implicated. She says she doesn’t know where Jason is, and if he has anything else to ask her, talk to her lawyer.

Elizabeth thanks Scotty, and he says, they’re still family. She says she thinks she needs to get Cameron counseling. The whole thing is awful. Even if the charges are dropped, Cameron doesn’t know Peter August killed Franco, not Jason. Scotty asks how she knows about that, and she says Finn told her a couple of hours ago. Scotty says he knew weeks ago. When Cameron got worked up over Jason, Scotty was going to tell him, but he held back. Elizabeth thinks she should tell Cameron that his anger is misplaced. Jason is innocent. Peter is the killer. Cameron overhears.

Britt tells Jason, his blood delivery is officially late. She wants him to drink more, but he tells her, get down, pulling her down next to him behind the bed. She says he’s going to pop his stiches, and he says, someone is coming. He draws his gun.

Tomorrow, Curtis says something is better staying a memory, Cameron confronts Elizabeth, Spinelli comes in peace, and Jason tells Britt that he knows how this is going to play out.

🍂 On The Real Housewives of New Jersey Jackie arranged for a day of apple picking and wine tasting with the women for her birthday. She told Evan that she planned to taste many wines. Delores called to tell Jackie that she had a doctor’s appointment, and she’d meet them at the venue. In Delores’s interview, she said she didn’t really have an appointment, but wasn’t about to ride in a van with this group so soon after the fiasco at the cocktail party. Evan told Jackie, they’re human beings. They should be able to talk while having a disagreement, and not scream. Jackie said, there were human beings, and there were women from New Jersey; those were two different animals. Jennifer redecorated away from Bill’s ornate furniture style, and I was loving the grey sectional sofa. Mom Josephine was angry with Jennifer because of the conversation about her and Jennifer’s father at the mom’s party. Josephine said they’d made a fool out of her, but Jennifer insisted that wasn’t true. I found it highly amusing that Jennifer’s dad was drinking his morning coffee out of a Betty Boop mug during this conversation. Joe #2 helped Teresa organize her garage, and said she needed a man in the house, since he was tired of doing chores there. She asked why he’d told everyone that she was in love, and he told her, Louie was the guy she’d been looking for; why hide it? He pointed out that Joe #1 had never told her anything nice, and we flashed back once again to the scene where Juicy Joe called Teresa a bitch and the c-word. Joe #2 asked if it was serious, and Teresa said Louie was the most amazing guy she’d ever met. Joe said he thought Louie was the right person, and in Teresa’s interview, she said Louie made her laugh, and he was so smart. In my estimation, that’s an open-ended statement, since Teresa isn’t exactly a genius. She said she didn’t trust everything yet. She wasn’t telling everyone until she felt secure in their relationship.

Margaret had a photo shoot for the book at her house, and was including Marge Sr. on the back cover. There was a lot of glam, coupled with props of junk food, and The Marge’s signature pigtails. Delores and Frank’s kids had birthdays a week apart, celebrating together while growing up. Even though they were now grown, the family enjoyed keeping the tradition alive. David joined them, and told Frank that Delores yelled a lot. Frank said David should have seen her at the cocktail party. Delores said the group actually took a poll on whether the Porsche was a ring diversion, but David said he was too old to care about that stuff. Delores said she’d always respect and protect her relationship with David. In her interview, Delores said David showed up when it mattered, and was crazy for her kids. Two phenomenal cakes were presented. One with animals and a stethoscope on it, for Gabrielle, who’s a veterinarian; and one with the NYC skyline, money symbols, and gold bars, for Frank Jr., who works on Wall Street.

Before the trip, the women met for breakfast at Jackie’s house, and Jackie explained that Delores wasn’t coming. Marge said Delores was upset about how they took a poll, and felt no one was her cheerleader. Jackie said, last year, Delores wanted a ring, and now she didn’t. Melissa told everyone that she believed Teresa’s new boyfriend was meant to be her husband, and in Melissa’s interview, she said she could tell Louie was the one. Teresa and Louie went out of their way for one another, couldn’t take their eyes off each other, and Teresa let her guard down with him. The women presented Jackie with a beautiful pair of earrings, and everyone told apple picking stories. Jennifer said she’d taken her parents apple picking, and her mom made it a misery. She told the group that her mom resented the party, and it looked like they wouldn’t be talking for a while. She decided to stop calling her mom out, since it wasn’t getting her anywhere. Melissa got a text from son Gino, saying Joe #2 was in a lot of pain. Melissa called home, and Joe said he thought it was a kidney stone. Melissa said she was coming home, and told Joe to call an ambulance to get him to the hospital. After Melissa left, the rest of the women got in the van and called Delores, telling her why they might be late, and what was going on with Joe #2. Delores told them to call Melissa, and tell her to go to the hospital David worked at; he’d be waiting. Marge found this ironic after Joe #2 had talked smack about David at the cocktail party. They discussed Teresa’s boyfriend, Marge saying Melissa told them she’d met him, but Teresa still wasn’t saying much. In her interview, she said she wanted to make sure it was right before introducing Louie to her friends. She said Joe #2 had diarrhea of the mouth, and Jennifer said that’s why his stomach hurt.

The guide told the group that the winery was like the Disneyworld of alcohol. Delores showed up slightly late, and said she was looking for a bunch of loud, sparkly girls. She told the women, if Joe #2 was definitely passing a kidney stone, he’d have to stay at the hospital until it happened. She thought Joe #2 must be going through something, the way he’d talked about her, but she was more upset about the poll. Jackie said she’d thought Delores wanted a ring, but Delores said her friends took part in a conversation about her, and it wasn’t what friends did. Teresa wondered if they had mactosh apples. Delores told Marge, if someone took a poll on Jackie’s husband or Melissa’s marriage, she wouldn’t have taken part. In her interview, she said she’d taken a lot of heat about her relationship, but they were coming from a place they knew nothing about. She was feeling judged.

They did some apple picking, then a wine tasting at the orchard’s restaurant, where they also ordered food. Melissa texted that the kidney stone had passed, and Teresa said their dad used to get them. Marge told everyone that she was having a combo party for Joe #3’s 65th birthday and Halloween. Delores said she didn’t want David around them because the group had mocked him, but Jennifer said she only wanted for Delores whatever Delores wanted for herself. Delores said life was constantly changing, and in her interview, said she’d learned from her divorce, if something doesn’t go your way, it’s not the end of the world. If she doesn’t get engaged, her life will take a different turn. Marge suggested Teresa bring her man in costume.

Joe #2 told Melissa that he was drinking water non-stop, because David said he was dehydrated. Melissa pointed out that David had been very good to Joe, and Joe should judge him as a boyfriend. Delores was a grown woman, and if she was happy, she’d stay. If she wasn’t, she’d leave. She told Joe not to comment on Delores’s relationship, and he said he’d known Delores before he knew Melissa. Melissa said Delores didn’t like it, and Marge had called him chauvinistic, like Delores needed a man to survive; that was BS. Melissa said as much as Joe wanted it to be otherwise, women could survive without men. Joe said she always pointed a finger at him, and he wanted his old wife back. She said she wasn’t giving up her personal growth or her dreams. She was sick of him feeling like her doing something for herself was taking away from him. She didn’t want to resent him for holding her back. He said he put her on a pedestal, and supported anything she wanted to do. We flashed back as he said, there was her singing, and when she opened envy; he built her a boutique, and got her an au pair when she wanted one. If she wants the moon, he’ll get her the effing moon. Melissa said that he’d told her not to forget about him, and he said for a time she had. She insisted that wasn’t the case, and said it was like talking to a wall. He told her to go be what whatever she wanted to be. We’re done. I honestly think he meant done with the conversation though, not the marriage.

In Teresa’s interview, she said she’d met other guys, but there hadn’t been a connection. She and Louie had things in common, but they were taking it slow. The show ended with Louie coming to the door, sharply dressed, flowers in hand.

🏋️‍♂️ I loved Watch What Happens Live tonight, since the guests were The Real Househusbands of New Jersey. In the intro, the husbands did taglines, and it was pretty funny. I got a bunch of likes for my tweet suggesting they get their own show. Yay me. You can also see the opening here:

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jordan tells Cameron, put the gun down. More cops run in behind her, and she tells them, stand down. She says she’s going to lower her gun, and her eyes never leave Cameron’s as she does. She says, now it’s his turn. Put the gun down.

Elizabeth leaves a message for Cameron, saying she needs to know where he is; it’s important. Finn says he’s sure Cameron is fine.

In an alleyway, the fake janitor backs up, and Cyrus comes toward him, saying, it was two trained men against one unarmed woman. How did she get away? Janitor that isn’t says, he told Cyrus. He and the other guy had Britt, dead to rights, in her office. All of a sudden, Jason shows up, gets the jump on them, and Jason and Britt take off. Other guy went after them. Cyrus says, and…? and pretend janitor says, Jason had a car and driver waiting. Other guy ran right into an ambush. Cyrus asks why Jason isn’t dead, but un-janitor says he doesn’t know. He’ll find out. Cyrus says, you know what’s unfortunate? He puts his hand on not a janitor’s shoulder and says, that they didn’t shoot him too. He takes out a switchblade, and phony janitor becomes dead phony janitor.

Brick and Britt help Jason to a bed in a safe house, and Jason says he’s good. Britt says, no, he’s not. She’s the doctor, he’s the patient; she gets to say when he’s good. Brick says, she told you, and Britt tells Brick that she needs medical supplies. He opens the door, nearly running into Carly on her way in. She says, thank God. She wasn’t sure if they got away or not. He says, it was close, and there’s a complication. He steps aside, and she goes over to Jason, who’s bleeding like a stuck pig.

Jordan tells Cameron to look at her. That’s right. It’s over now. Lower his arm, and let her take his gun. She knows he’s nervous, but she needs him to nod his head so she knows he heard what she just said. He nods, and she says, that’s great. He’s doing a great job. Now lower the gun. Cameron slowly lowers it as she walks toward him, and she quickly takes it, saying, all clear. The cops move in, and one puts handcuffs on Cameron. He asks, what’s going on? and she says he’s under arrest. He says he didn’t do anything, and she says he has the right to remain silent. He repeats, he didn’t do anything, and she says, listen to what she’s telling him; it’s for his own protection. He looks like he might cry, and says again that he didn’t do anything, and she says louder, listen. He says, okay, and calms down somewhat. She reads him his rights, but she sounds like she’s way in the background of his comprehension. She asks if he understands what she just told him, and he says, yes.

Carly says, there’s so much blood, but Jason says, it’s not that bad. Britt says, it’s very bad. She needs that bag. Brick leaves to get it, and Carly asks, what happened? Britt says, what does she think happened? Other guy pulled a gun, and shot Jason. Carly says, what went wrong? Brick was in the car waiting for him. He got there, but then went back in. Why? Britt says, he went back to save her.

At the MetroCourt bar, Mac tells Dante, the PCPD is really in need of manpower right now. Valerie is testifying in a case that just keeps dragging on (yeah, it’s called The Haves and The Have Nots), and she wants to transfer to forensics. Chase is dealing with this mystery illness, and is laid up at GH. They could use him under any circumstance, but right now, it’s crucial. Dante says he’s flattered Mac is pulling out all the stops for him, but he’s been gone a long time, and after what happened to him, he doesn’t think he can be the cop that Mac thinks he is. Mac says he understands what Dante has been through, but according to what he’s heard from Robert and Anna, his treatment was successful. He’s fit to return to duty. Dante says he’s glad they still believe in him, and Mac says, but Dante has his doubts. Dante says after the last couple of years, of course (🍷) he does. Mac says they all have doubts in their abilities at some point in life. They’re a half-step slower than when they were younger; that’s just life. Dante gets Mac’s point, but says his situation is a little more complicated than that. Mac says Dante has always had great instincts, and understands the job; and he’s always done it with integrity. He really needs Dante back on the force. They hear Obrecht toasting to savoring the pleasures of the unexpected. They look over to see her with Scotty, and Mac wonders if they’re dating.

Obrecht tells Scotty, it seems their presence is causing something of a commotion, and Scotty says, who cares about them? He’s free, and has nothing to hide. She flashes back to the first time they were together, and says, what a change. Neither does she.

On the phone in the kitchen, Brando says he’ll meet Cyrus downstairs. He gets in the elevator, and Sasha is there. He says it’s a nice surprise. Where’s she headed? She says she was just there for a doctor’s visit, and he asks if she’s okay. She says she is, but she doesn’t want to talk about it. He says, okay. He thought that after the other night… He’s sorry. He didn’t mean to pry.

Willow thanks someone, and hangs up the phone. She tells Chase that there’s no more active shooter. That was scary. You’re supposed to feel safe in a hospital, right? Apparently, she’s never checked into GH, whose safety rating is F minus-minus. Chase tries to get out of bed, and Willow asks where he thinks he’s going. He says, it’s an emergency. He’s a cop. He needs to get back to work. She says, he will – she pushes him back down on the bed – when he’s better. He says he’s feeling tons better. He hates this. When is he going to get his life back?

Jason asks if he made it in time for the meeting of the Five Families thin crust pizza, and Carly says, there’s a few hours before the meeting. How long does Britt need to patch him up? Britt says, he needs more than a patch, and Jason says they can do it tomorrow. She says, is he crazy? This is more than a temporary fix. If she doesn’t close his wound, he’s going to bleed to death.

Brick brings a medical bag, and she says, good. She thought she was going to have to rely on a first aid kit. He says, successful operations need to be prepared. Jason tells Brick that he’s okay, and Carly says, he’s not okay, but he’s going to be. Jason passes out, and Britt tells Carly that she needs to stay calm. She asks Brick to assist her, and tells Carly to keep pressure on Jason’s wound. If he regains consciousness, do not let him get up. Carly tells Jason, he’s better off. Britt is going to have to operate, and she doesn’t think there’s anything in the bag to kill the pain. Didn’t Brick just say they were prepared? Not so successful after all. Carly guesses she wants him to stay passed out. He needs to make it. She doesn’t think she can go on without him. Britt puts surgical gloves on, and Carly says this is on Britt. She has to save Jason.

Mac says, the way he sees it, he and Dante both benefit. Dante gets a job, and he gets a top-notch detective that he can trust. He understands having to walk away from police work. When he and Felicia bought The Floating Rib, he thought he was walking away from law enforcement. For guys like them, police work is in their blood; it’s who they are. Dante says Mac makes a compelling argument, but he just… Mac says he’s not asking Dante to make a decision right now. Just think about it. Dante agrees, and Mac’s phone rings.

Jordan tells Mac, she’s at GH in the parking garage; there’s been a shooting. He says, any fatalities? and she says, only one so far. He says he’s ten minutes out, and she says he needs to prepare himself; it’s a sensitive situation. He says, in what way? and she says, the shooter is Cameron Webber. He says, copy that. He’s on his way. He tells Dante, there’s been a shooting at GH, one fatality. He knows Dante hasn’t decided on rejoining the force, but it’s a delicate situation. He could use the back-up. Dante says, whatever he needs, and they leave.

Sasha asks how Brando has been, and he says, good. At least he thought he was. Is this about the other night? Is she having regrets? She says, not at all. It was… memorable. She’s just really distracted by her appointment. Can they talk another time? He says, sure, and the elevator stops. She gets out, and starts walking, but Cyrus says, Ms. Gilmore, lovely as always. She says, Mr. Renault. She’d say it was a pleasure to see him, but she’s had to give up lying as part of her recovery. Cyrus says that was a terrible moment when she hit rock bottom. He so admires her for climbing her way back. Don’t forget that he’s always there to offer a helping hand, or anything else she might need. She says, no thanks, and walks away. Cyrus tells Brando, call Brown, and tell him there’s a mess to clean up in the alley on four. Then get in touch with the warehouse, and make sure we’re on schedule for tonight. He has a tragedy to attend to. He and Brando leave, and Sasha doubles back, getting into the elevator.

Brick cuts Jason’s shirt, exposing the wound, and Britt prepares the wound for surgery.

Jordan tells Cameron that she’s sure his mother will be there soon. Elizabeth runs in with Finn, and sees dead other guy. She says, oh my God, what’s going on? And why is her son in handcuffs? Cameron swears it was a big mistake. He didn’t do it. Jason did.

Jordan tells Elizabeth that she’s advised Cameron of his Miranda rights. Anything he says can be used against him, so it’s better for him if she explains. Elizabeth asks what there is to explain, and Jordan says, Jason escaped tonight, and took Britt as a hostage. They think he was being pursued be this individual. She indicates other guy, and says, he was dressed as a hospital janitor. They’re pulling security footage and will piece together a timeline of events. What they do know is, shots were fired. Cameron flashes back to telling Jason that he wanted to see the man Jake believes in, but he can’t. All he sees is the person who killed Franco. Elizabeth asks what Jordan is doing with her son, and Jordan says when she arrived on the scene, Cameron had a gun, pointing straight at her. There was gunpowder in the air, and shots had been fired; one man is dead. She has to arrest Cameron. Cameron swears he didn’t do it. All he did was pick up the gun. Finn says, stop. Don’t say another word.

Britt asks for medical stuff, and does medical stuff to Jason. Brick assists, while Carly holds Jason’s head.

Chase says Willow has a pretty good bedside manner. He’s going to have to watch his back after she becomes a nurse. Her patients are going to fall in love with her like he did. She says his weakened state has made him sappy, and he says, chalk it up to one more unexplained symptom. He has no idea what’s making him sick. Why? Finn is supposed to be a research genius, and can’t figure it out. The only thing that makes sense is being with her. Loving her is the only thing he’s sure of.

Britt stitches up the wound. Carly frets. Brick takes notes (just kidding).

Finn tells Jordan that Cameron is traumatized by whatever happened, and asks if the handcuffs are necessary. She says she’s afraid so. Shots were fired, and Cameron was discovered holding the gun. Finn tells her, Cameron said didn’t fire it, and she says, the security footage will back him up. She understands he’s been placed in a chaotic situation, and might have acted without realizing it. She tells the officer to take Cameron to a quiet spot. Another cop calls to her to check out some blood on the garage floor, and Jordan says she needs a tech. She puts on gloves, and tells the tech to take a sample. See if it’s a match for Jason Morgan. Elizabeth makes a call.

Carly says Jason doesn’t look good, and he feels clammy. Britt asks if Jason’s hands are cold, and Brick says, very cold. Britt says Jason is going into hypovolemic shock, and they’re running out of time. She tells Brick to cut the thread, and digs through the medical bag. Carly asks what she’s looking for, and Britt says blah-blah-blah some piece of medical equipment. Jason needs a transfusion. They need to get as much O-negative blood in him as possible. Carly tells the guard to get some blood at the hospital, but Britt says, unless it’s next door, it’s not soon enough. They need it right now. Carly says, then use her. Give Jason her blood.

Elizabeth says she got ahold of Scotty, and he’s on his way. Cameron says he didn’t do anything; he didn’t even fire the gun. Why does he need a lawyer? Finn says, the security footage will prove that, but in the meantime he needs a layer to protect his rights. Elizabeth asks Cameron to explain what happened. Why is he there? He says he wanted Jason to admit he killed Franco. He wanted Jason to say the actual words, but Jason wasn’t in his room. The guard was on the floor, and he didn’t know if the guard was dead or what. Jason did it; he killed Franco. That’s why he ran. Elizabeth looks at Finn.

Cameron says, after Jason ran, he followed Jason to the stairwell. He came down to the garage; people were shooting, and Jason was dragging Britt to the car. When the gunman was shot, he dropped his gun, and Cameron picked it up. Finn says, stop. He knows Cameron wants to get it all out, but he can’t say anything. Elizabeth tells him to wait for Scotty.

Britt tells Carly to keep clenching her fist, so the blood will flow faster. She might get dizzy. Carly says, thank God she and Jason are compatible, and Britt says, and that she knew. How many times have she and Jason bled for each other? Carly flashes back to Sonny’s funeral, and Jason telling her, she’s dressed, standing, and she’s ready. She’s going to get through this because there’s no other option. Carly looks at Britt.

Scotty arrives with Obrecht, and tells Cameron, listen. Zip it, and let him do the talking. Obrecht goes over to Jordan, and says, excuse the interruption, but Scotty said Britt was involved. What does that mean? Jordan says, Cameron saw Jason dragging her to the car, and thinks she was kidnapped. Obrecht flashes back to asking Britt why she’s in danger, and Britt saying, all she knows is that she’s doing a favor for Jason. Obrecht tells Britt that she needs to get as far away from Jason as possible. Trouble and violence follow him like he’s a magnet. Britt says, Jason isn’t the problem. It’s the people who are after him who are dangerous, but Obrecht says, he’s like an Olympic bobsled run; hazardous under any conditions. But Britt won’t get a medal for surviving Jason.

Carly tells Britt, she and Jason have been through a lot. Does she think this is going to work? Britt says his pulse is stronger, but she can’t give him a full transfusion. Carly’s guard still has to come through. She says, he will. Sonny’s men are extremely loyal to Jason, because he’d do the same for them. Right, Brick? Brick says, ten times over. We watch as the blood flows through the tube into Jason.

Sasha asks if Chase would like company, and he says, sure. She tells him that she was at the hospital, and thought she’d check up on him while she was there. How’s he feeling? He says, not bad for a guy who can’t hold a glass of water. Sasha asks what he means, and Willow says, Chase has neuropathy which makes it hard for him to hold things. Sasha says she’s sorry; she didn’t realize. What caused it? Chase says, he wishes he knew, and Willow says, Finn and the doctors are working hard, but so far there’s been no diagnosis. Chase says, Finn found a partial treatment, and he’s better… kind of. Sasha says he must be frustrated, and Willow says, he’s been strong. Sasha says that doesn’t surprise her, and Chase says he had help. There’s no way he could have done it without Willow. She’s been an absolute rock. Her being there made all the difference.

Mac comes into the garage, and says he canvassed the 10th floor and the stairwells, but there’s no evidence of additional gunfire. Any word on the victim? Jordan says, he was working at the hospital with false credentials. Dante joins them and says Britt’s office is trashed. If she was taken against her will, she put up a hell of a fight. Cyrus arrives, and asks what they’re doing to find his Chief of Staff. Jason has escaped, a member of the staff is dead, and Britt is gone; it’s terrible PR for the hospital. Jordan says, he’s not upset; she’s not surprised. He tells her, he didn’t say that, and she didn’t answer his question. Britt’s safety is of paramount importance to him.

Jordan assures Cyrus that she’ll focus on Britt, and asks about the janitor with the false ID. He says he’s sure HR could give her a better explanation than he can. He sees Obrecht, and says he promises he’ll use his full resources to find her daughter. If she speaks to Britt before he does, please ease his mind and let him know. Obrecht says, he’ll be her first call. He leaves with Brando, and Obrecht says, but if Britt has been harmed, I’ll cut your heart out, schwein.

Finn apologizes for interrupting, but says he needs to check Chase’s vitals. Chase asks if Sasha and Willow would mind stepping out. He needs to talk to his bro… Finn. Willow says, of course (🍷), and Sasha tells Chase, hang in there. Finn says Willow has been spending a lot of time with Chase, and Chase says, she has. He’d like to spend the rest of his life with her, anywhere other than the hospital. Be honest. What is Finn doing to get him out?

Willow asks what Sasha is doing at the hospital, and Sasha says she had a doctor’s appointment, and wanted to pop in on Chase. When she walked in, she could see that he and Willow are really back together. It gave her hope that things can really work out. Willow asks if Sasha is doing okay, and Sasha says she’s fine, maybe a little introspective. She and Michael are over, and it’s for the best, but in spite of that, Willow and Chase are chase making it work. Seeing the spark in his eyes when he’s so sick is an inspiration. Willow says she’s helping any way she can, but it’s hard watching Chase struggle. Sasha says, Chase has always been physically active. She knows how scared he must be. Knowing Willow and Chase ended up together, where they belong, is a reminder that good things happen. They deserve to happy.

Scotty tells the officer guarding Cameron that the Commissioner gave him time to talk to his client in private. The officer leaves, and Scotty says, first, Cameron admitted to picking up the gun. Never admit to anything without his lawyer present. Don’t even comment on the weather. And don’t bring up Jason. Cameron says he made mess, huh?

Obrecht tells Jordan that yesterday, Britt pulled her aside, and said she was getting pressure from Cyrus that made her a target. She advised Britt to stay away, and stay safe. Jordan asks if Britt told her what it was about, and Obrecht says, no, but Britt and Jason are missing, and Cyrus is offering up his lousy fake tears. Whatever happened, he’s behind it. For once, she’s on Jordan’s side. Bring that schwein to justice. Jordan sees Dante, and asks if he rejoined the force, but he says, no ma’am. Mac says he asked Dante to ride along; a test run if he comes back. Jordan hopes he decides to stay. Obrecht just told her that Britt said she was being pressured by Cyrus. She’s convinced Cyrus is behind what happened. Mac says, maybe Britt isn’t a hostage. They’ll find out from GH security. One of the cops hands Jordan an envelope, and she tells him that she needs the footage. She takes a paper out of the envelope, and Mac asks what it is. She says, the blood on the garage floor matches what they have on file for Jason. Scotty tells Cameron, take a deep breath. He’ll be fine. Mac tells Jordan, Cameron denies firing the gun, but she says, he knows how it goes. Cameron was panicked and disoriented. He may have pulled the trigger without realizing it.

Scotty tells Cameron that he wasn’t much of a father to his kids, but Franco fixed that. It’s not Cameron’s fault. He was shortchanged in the father department until Franco came along. Cameron says he doesn’t understand, and Scotty says, Franco was a stand-up guy who helped Cameron, and that’s what he’s going to do; stand up and help Cameron. Cameron thanks him, and Scotty says, next time Cameron has the impulse to do something stupid that will ruin his life, call him first, not later. Got it? Elizabeth says, he’s got it, right? Cameron says, he’ll call Scotty first.

Carly asks how Jason is, and Britt says she thinks it’s working; he’s warming back up. Carly says, thank God, and Britt says she’s welcome. Carly tells Brick that she has to go home and change for a meeting. He says if she needs back-up, he’s available, but she says Jordan saw him at the hospital. She knows he’s involved. He says, so what? He’s not scared of a bunch of jurors, but she says, it’s a meeting. Everyone will be on their best behavior. Brick needs to handle the thing they discussed earlier, and then get out of town. He asks if she’s sure she still wants him to do it, and she says, hell yeah. They’ve got it coming.

Sasha says when she and Chase decided to push Michael and Willow together so they could get custody of Wiley, they knew it would be painful. They thought they were prepared, but she’s never seen anyone more heartbroken than Chase when he lost Willow. He’s a good guy, and all he wants is the best for Willow. Willow says it’s what she wants for Chase too. Sasha says, it mostly worked out. Willow and Michael are Wiley’s parents, and Chase will get better. He and Willow can finally build a life together. Willow smiles.

Finn says he knows Chase is climbing the walls, and knows how frustrating it can be, but look on the bright side. Chase says, other than Willow, there is no bright side, but Finn says he found a treatment. Chase says he’s grateful for all he can get. He has less pain, but he’s not well. It’s a treatment, not a cure. Finn says, yet, and Chase asks what Finn means. Is he going to be living at GH indefinitely? Finn says he’s doing everything in his power to make Chase better, and won’t stop until he does.

Mac says, Jason was wounded, but they have no idea how badly he’s hurt. It’s not clear if Britt was a hostage or a wiling accomplice. He’s sure Cyrus and his men will be out there looking for Jason, trying to find him before they do. Dante says, if Cyrus finds Jason before they do, Cyrus will kill him, and Mac’s questions remain unanswered. No one knows more about Sonny’s organization, or where Jason may be hiding out, than Dante. Is he up for the job? Dante says he’s not willing to commit past this job, but yes, and Mac says, all he asks is that Dante bring Jason back alive.

Jordan says, they’ve confirmed the blood at the crime scene is Jason’s, and tells Elizabeth, Cameron was discovered with a gun in his hand. She has to take him in for processing. Elizabeth says, he never fired that gun, and Jordan says, they’ll see what the evidence shows, in the meantime, Elizabeth and Scotty can meet them at the station. Elizabeth tells Cameron, it will be okay, but he looks pretty scared.

Britt reaches for something, and her hand shakes. Jason stirs, and she says his name. She asks if he can hear her, and he removes the oxygen mask. He asks, where’s Carly?

At the meeting of the Five Families olive oil, one of the members says, time for the meeting to start, and Cyrus walks in. He says, here he is, on time, and assures them he always will be. He addresses Miss Wu, Mr. Novak, and Mr. Bashima. He appreciates them extending an invitation to his first meeting of the family heads. (Otherwise known as the Five Families ravioli with meat sauce.) He says, shall we begin? The door opens, and we see a pair of righteous high heels walk through. Carly says, not so fast, and removes her white coat, revealing a sophisticated white dress. She says, now we can begin.

Frankly, I always thought Carly would be better at running the organization. God knows, she’s more ruthless than Sonny.

Tomorrow, Britt asks if Jason thinks he said too much, Josslyn asks if there are any details, and Carly tells Cyrus she’s calling the shots now and he doesn’t want to make himself a target.

🗽 On the season premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City, we saw New York City as it was on March 1, 2020, compared to October 1. Protocols were in place by the time they’d started filming. Leah was in a new apartment. I thought of my first apartment, which was in Manhattan. It could probably fit in Leah’s kitchen. And don’t get me started on the smallest closet in the world, which was also triangular, or the antique refrigerator. Leah also got a new fur baby, and Chihuahua named Angel, who was extremely cute. Leah was in the process of converting to Judaism. During a video chat with her father, asking forgiveness as she went into the Jewish New Year. Her father asked if Angel wasn’t Mexican, and she said, yes, and he told her, then the dog is Catholic. I literally lol’d. Ramona and LuAnn were buddy-buddy, and bitched about Sonja being MIA. In Ramona’s interview, she said, when Sonja is feeling vulnerable, she hides, and claimed to know all about Sonja’s psychological makeup.

LuAnn also had a new apartment in the city, and acted all surprised that her view included Tom’s terrace. Leah summed it up best later on Watch What Happens Live, when she said, it’s your ex-husband you know where he lives. Leah met with new Wife Eboni for a walk in the park, and in Leah’s interview, she explained she met Eboni after she’d moved to her new neighborhood. She said Eboni was the epitome of Black Girl Magic; she’s a lawyer and a broadcaster, and has a podcast going on. Eboni asked if Leah had anything going on with her love life, and Leah said she and Pita Chip Guy didn’t work out, but they’d always be friends. In her interview, Leah said she’d sent a nakey photo to Pita Chip Guy, who in turn sent it to a friend, and (mistakenly, we assume) to her.

Sonja didn’t seem very vulnerable as she conferred with assistant #2003, and lounged around in a caftan from her clothing line, a prisoner of her townhouse until it got sold. She invited the girls over for lunch on her gorgeous patio, complete with a fountain and goldfish pond. In Sonja’s interview, she told us, Sonja is on Sonja time, and never ready for the guests, but everything else is always ready for the guests. She felt like she’d had the rug pulled out from under her, since she’d just gotten her big Century 21 deal just before covid hit. LuAnn asked Leah to be her wingman, since she didn’t want to drink, and Leah was in not-drinking mode. When everyone asked where Sonja had been for the last several months, she said she’d been in the desert, but it wasn’t clear if she meant the Sahara, the Mohave, or she was mispronouncing dessert and had been busy eating her feelings. LuAnn invited everyone to her house in the Hamptons, and we saw a flash forward. Looks like there will be a lot of arguing.

Unlike RHONJ and RHOBH, I still enjoy the RHONY. They have their share of brawls, but they seem more genuine, and don’t create drama for drama’s sake. I don’t even think LuAnn and Ramona play to the cameras. I think they’d be divas if the cameras were rolling or not.

This season, a beauty pageant, Leah gives a lap dance, ice skating, burlesque, and is that Tiffany Pollard? Heather Thomas, arguments, Garth, Sonja dressed like a pilgrim, a trip to Salem, and a séance. Leah calls Heather a Karen, sketching a nakey guy, Leah calls everyone a ho (which caused me to go, here a ho, there a ho, everywhere a ho, ho, in my head), and Ramona wonders what happened to class?

🐎 I did catch one cool thing on The Real Housewives of Dallas. They had a murder mystery party at Southfork Ranch. The rooms were designed after various characters from the original Dallas TV series, and the women were able to stay there. I love a themed hotel. To negate the fun, Kary and Brandi managed to get drunk and destroyed the plexiglass in front of a JR display. The owner was very cool about it though. Not so much D’Andra, who Kary decided to throw in the pool, destroying three grand of accessories.

🥂 Yep, It Was…

Interesting pairing.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly asks if Brick is in position. Brick is in his car, and says, he’s all set. Are the garage cameras disabled? Sitting on Carly’s couch, Spinelli says he passed the GH firewall… with ease, he must admit. GH will see looped footage from two days ago. No one will see what’s going on in real time except them. No one will see, nor will there be video evidence of, Jason’s elopement from custody. Brick asks, what about inside? and Carly says, they’re good. Greg is inside as an orderly, and he’ll take care of the guard posted by Pentenville. Spinelli says he thought the guard was one of theirs, and Carly says, he was, and then he wasn’t. Brick says, all they have to do is wait for Jason to… oh, damn. Spinelli makes noises, and Carly says, what? Brick says, good evening, Commissioner, as Jordan approaches the car.

At the hospital, on the phone, Cameron says he needs Aiden to do him a big favor. Go in his room, put on some music, and close the door. Tell mom he’s in there… He’s not going to get into trouble. Cameron has to do something, and he’ll be home soon. He slips around the corner to avoid Elizabeth.

Greg tells the guard that he needs the patient uncuffed, and the guard asks where the patient is going. Greg says, tests, and the guard asks, what kind? but Greg says he’s just the delivery guy. He shows the guard the paperwork, and tells Jason, time to go.

A nurse apologizes for the delay, and tells Jax as soon as his antibiotics are ready, he can go. Jax asks Josslyn, where were we? and she says, getting on the road again. She’ll text Trina. He says, wait a minute, and points to her boot, asking how she got it. She says she’ll tell him when he explains his bullet wound, and he says, it’s quite simple really. Two guys tried to rob the charity at the local fire station and he got in the way. She says, they were stealing from a charity? She’s glad he stopped them. He says, it wasn’t just him. There was a local guy who took down the other robber.

Trina pushes away an empty bowl, and tells Phyllis, that was so good. Phyllis says she’s glad Trina enjoyed it, and Trina says, the sauce was incredible. She thanks Phyllis for taking pity on her, and Phyllis says she couldn’t let Trina go away hungry. Trina asks what she owes, but Phyllis says, nothing. The Tan-O is a bar not a restaurant. Pasta isn’t on the menu, so consider it small town hospitality. Trina says if they start serving pasta with that sauce, they’ll sell out every night. She asks if Phyllis made it, and Phyllis says she makes a mean sauce, but this one is their bartender’s secret recipe.

Nina calls Sonny, and he asks if she’s on the road. She asks where he is, and he says he’s in his room, but he was just going to give Phyllis a hand. She tells him, stay right there, and he asks, why? She says she’ll explain when she gets there, but promise her that he’ll stay in his room. He asks, what’s going on?

Trina says he really won’t give Phyllis the recipe? Nina is looking in the window, and tells Sonny, she’ll be right there. There’s just something she has to take care of really quickly. She runs into the Tan-O, and says Josslyn told her Trina was there. Trina says, oh, she sees, and Nina says, sees what? Trina says, why Josslyn’s dad wanted to come there; he was looking for Nina. Nina says, he found her, and now Trina has to go.

Britt goes through some folders on her desk, when there’s a knock at the door. Finn comes in, and says he needs her to sign off on some things, and needs Trudy to assist him in the lab. She says, whatever he needs, and gets on her computer. She tells him, done. Is he any closer to diagnosing Chase? He says, they have some leads, and she says he has the hospital’s full support. He says he appreciates it, and she says, now if he’ll excuse her. He says she’s not leaving, is she?

Nikolas says, this morning Ava was adamant that he stay away from Cyrus, and now she’s invited him to dinner? She says Cyrus wants something from them, and they have to find out what it is. It helps to have the homecourt advantage. He says, his mother really went along with this? She says, yeah. She, Laura, and Carly are working together. Strange alliance, she knows, but Cyrus calls for desperate measures.

Carly wonders what Jordan is doing there, and Jordan asks Brick, what brings him to GH? He says he’s waiting for his sister; he’s taking her to the Port Charles Grill. She asks why he’s waiting down there, and he says, peace and quiet. He’s listening to the radio. He asks if he’s doing something wrong; he can move the car. Spinelli says, please don’t move, please don’t move, but Jordan says, no. He’s fine where he is. Carly says, thank God, and Jordan starts to walk away. She stops, and turns back, saying, what about Jason? He says he tried to visit, but they said no dice. He’ll have to wait until Jason returns to Pentenville. She tells him, have a good night; stay out of trouble. He says he’ll do his best. She finally leaves, and Brick says, all clear. What about them? Spinelli says, in need of a strong beverage, or a warm muffin. Carly says she doesn’t like this. Why did Jordan choose tonight to show up at General Hospital?

Nikolas tells Ava, the guests have arrived, and lets Doc and Laura in. Ava says, welcome to our home, and Doc says, she does know they’ve been there before. She says she’s practicing for Cyrus and Martin. Was she convincing? Laura says, she bought it, and Ava asks if she’s ready for this. Laura says if Cyrus sees she’s being anything more than barely civil, he’ll be suspicious. So she’s just going to do what she does. Doc asks when they expect Cyrus, and if it’s too late to cancel, but Nikolas says, canceling is not an option. He tried. He doesn’t know what confuses him more, having dinner with Cyrus, or that they’re running interference for Carly. Doc says, Carly didn’t happen to explain why she needs Cyrus distracted, did she? but Laura says they agreed that the less they knew, the better. Nikolas says, they might need Plan B. What if Cyrus isn’t coming?

Phyllis says she didn’t realize Nina and Trina knew each other, and she certainly didn’t expect Nina would chase off a friend. Nina says, she’s sorry. It’s just that Josslyn and Jax are waiting at the clinic, and it’s a long ride to Port Charles. Trina agrees it is, and guesses she’d better go. Phyllis says she has something for Trina, and runs in the back. Trina tells Nina that she’s got to say she likes it in Nixon Falls. It’s seen better days, but it’s cute. How does Nina know Phyllis? Nina says, Phyllis is an old friend, and Trina says it surprises her that Nina likes staying there. She thought of Nina as more of a Paris person. It seems like she’d get bored in a small town. Nina says, it’s anything but boring in Nixon Falls.

Britt tells Finn that she’s leaving. Does he need something else? He says, no, but she’s usually there late, until 11, and it’s barely 8. Does she have an emergency? She flashes back to Jason telling her to leave. If things go sideways, she needs deniability with the cops and Cyrus. Britt says, the day has taken a toll. She needs a break. So if he doesn’t mind… He says, no, and tells her to have a good evening. He leaves, and Britt mumbles that she has to get out of there before things go to hell. Mystery janitor comes by, and says he’s there to get the trash. Britt tells him, don’t bother. In fact, shouldn’t he be on 10? She knows he’s not going to be there much longer, but he’s got to keep a low profile. He says, he does? and she says, people are noticing, and asking questions. The last thing he wants is for Cyrus to get wind of strange new hires. The janitor says, right, and Britt looks puzzled.

Elizabeth gives Deanna some paperwork, and says, Dr. Finn wants a full panel; the lab knows it’s a rush, Deanna says she’s got it, and tells Elizabeth to go home and enjoy her night off. Elizabeth says she has one more thing to take care of. Cameron is lurking around the corner, and flashes back to telling Jason that Franco was his hero. He was an art therapist, not a killer like Jason. Cameron says, why won’t you say you did it, you coward?

Jason is put in a wheelchair, and Jordan asks where he’s going. Greg says, for tests, but Jordan says she understood he was going back to Pentenville. Is there a problem? Greg says he doesn’t know, and hands her Jason’s paperwork. He says, the doctors wanted him tested before he leaves. She says, the tests will have to wait. She has some questions.

Nikolas asks if Laura has heard anything from Spencer, when Ava comes out and says, dinner is almost ready, and still no Cyrus. Does Laura think they should call Carly and warn her? Laura says, he’ll be there. He won’t pass up a chance to pretend they’re all family. The doorbell rings, and she says, see? Nikolas says he’ll get it, and Ava says they promised to keep Cyrus there as long as possible. Laura tells her, if Ava doesn’t set Cyrus’s ponytail on fire and send him screaming out into the night, she’ll do her best. Cyrus comes in with flowers, and Martin carries a bakery box. Cyrus says, for the hostess, and Martin says, for dessert. She thanks them, and tells Nikolas to get drinks for their guests. She’ll put the flowers in water, and give the dessert to chef. Martin tells Laura that he was surprised at the invitation, and Cyrus says, not nearly half as surprised as he was. Why exactly are they there? Doc says, to solve a murder… It’s not that kind of party. Oh well. Laura says she’d like to know why they’re there too, and Nikolas says he thinks they can all agree there’s been some tension. Martin says he can’t imagine why, and Nikolas says, particularly between Cyrus and his mother, and Laura says she can’t imagine why. Nikolas says they were hoping this would lead to a truce. They are family. He thanks them for coming, and Laura says she’d do anything for her kids. Nikolas says he looks forward to getting to know his uncles better. Cyrus raises his glass, and nods to Laura.

On the side, Martin tells Nikolas, before they break bread, there’s something he should say. His mother was safe, sound, and happy, and away from his dear brother. Nikolas used him to find her, and now she’s not safe, nor sound, nor happy. Nikolas says he knows he did wrong by Martin and his mother. If he had it all to do again… Martin says, he’d do it differently? but Nikolas says he’d hope to find a different solution for all of them, especially Florence. He’s hoping against all hope, after everything that happened, he can win Martin over. Ava says, dinner is served; follow her. Cyrus asks for a word with Laura, adding that he doesn’t want to keep Doc from the table. Doc says he’s not leaving Cyrus alone with his wife, and Cyrus asks if it bothers Laura that her husband thinks she’s so frail that she’ll crumble without his protection. She tells him, whatever he has to say to her, she’ll tell Doc. The sooner Cyrus accepts that, the better. Cyrus says, very well. He wanted to say how happy he is that she agreed to this dinner. Doc says Cyrus needed him to leave the room for that? and Cyrus asks if this means that Laura is willing to give him… them, a chance. Laura says, they’re all there. Shall we?

Jordan tells Jason that she was concerned when she heard he was involved in a stabbing. Then she discovered the DNA was Shawn’s. He can understand why she’d be concerned, right? Why would Shawn of all people stab him? He says he’s not saying anything without his attorney, and she says, of course (🍷) he doesn’t. She says she thought she’d try. She’s still responsible for him until the trial, and wanted to make sure he was physically okay. He says he’s fine.

Elizabeth asks Finn, what really happened in Chase’s hospital room the night he coded? Finn says, if this is about the substance she thinks she saw him injecting into Chase’s IV port, he already told her… She says she knows what she saw. She considers him a friend. His daughter is her niece. They’re family. He says, yes, they are, and she asks why he’s lying to her. Why is he gaslighting her, when it could cost her job?

Josslyn says Jax should get an ice pack for his shoulder, and he says she knows she can talk to him. She says she does, and he asks why she’s there instead of the championship. And what really happened to her ankle? She says she stepped in a pothole; how stupid is that? She didn’t go to the championship because she let her team down. She couldn’t face them, and he needed a ride, so she texted Trina to come along. He says, it’s not that he doesn’t like seeing her, and he appreciates her coming, but she’s being hard on herself. It’s why call it an accident. She says, it feels like everything is going wrong, and he hugs her, saying, be careful.

Sonny comes in with a tray of glassware, and sees Nina, and she says she was just headed up to see him. Why isn’t he in his room? He asks, what difference does it make? and she says she just wanted to talk to him, but it’s okay; they’re alone down there. He says he thought she was driving her friend back, but she says his daughter and her friend came to drive him. Sonny says, good thing she doesn’t have to drive with her ex, and she says, he’s right; it would have been awkward. Her ex did offer her a second chance. He says, so she’s going back to Port Charles after all?

On the phone, Carly says, stay on it. She tells Spinelli, Greg said they moved Jason away from his room. She asks Spinelli about the garage, and he says, all quiet on the concrete front. He asks how soon the meeting with the Five Families pesto sauce is, and Carly says, in a few hours. Jason has to be there to prove they’re still in control, even though they lost Sonny. Spinelli says, Sonny’s loss is deeply felt by all. He was respected by the Five Families refrigerated pasta, wasn’t he? She says she’s sure Cyrus is trying to change that. Spinelli says he has every confidence that Jason will convince them to remain loyal, and she says, if he makes it to the meeting. She looks at the computer screen, and says, where the hell is he?

On the phone, Cyrus asks why his dinner is being interrupted. Fake janitor says, something’s not right. Britt knows he’s not on staff, and thinks he’s working with someone. Cyrus says, for whom? but he doesn’t know. Something is going down. Cyrus tells him to get rid of Britt; make it look like an OD. And he wants all eyes on Jason now.

Jason goes out to the stairway, and Greg says he’ll make sure no one follows. Jason says he won’t forget this.

Josslyn tells Jax, long story long, Dr. Robinson gave her the boot as a precaution. He says he understands she’s frustrated and disappointed, but injuries happen to all athletes. She’ll heal. She says she didn’t want to disappoint him and Carly, and he says they love her no matter what. She says she knows they love her, but she doesn’t want to disappoint them; there’s a difference. He says they’d never be disappointed in her. Trina is at the door, and says Nina told her they were waiting. She guesses that was wrong. Jax thanks her for coming with Josslyn, and says Trina is a good friend. Josslyn says they’re waiting for Jax’s antibiotics; then they can go. Jax says there’s something Josslyn better do first. Call her mother.

Finn asks how Elizabeth could lose her job. All he asked is that she be taken of Chase’s case. She says, when he complained, Britt claimed her grief is affecting her performance. He promises she won’t lose her job, and he’ll talk to Britt. She says she’s going to tell Britt what happened in Chase’s room, and he tells her not to do that. She asks him to just explain, and he says, Chase was poisoned by Peter August.

Jordan comes out the elevator, and Cameron jets into it. She asks Deanna, which doctor ordered the tests for Jason. Deanna looks at the computer, and says Britt ordered the tests for Jason, but she doesn’t know why. She would have seen his discharge papers.

The pseudo janitor comes back to Britt’s office, and she says, she’s done her part. She’s out of there unless something went wrong. He says, not a thing, and another guy comes in. Not the janitor holds her, and other guy takes out a syringe.

Brick waits, and Jason flies out of the building, and runs to the car. Spinelli tells Carly, he made it to the car, and she says, it’s about damn time. Jason asks if Brick has seen Britt, but Brick says, no, and they don’t have time to find her either. They’ve got to get out. Jason doesn’t get in the car, and Carly asks, what’s he doing? Spinelli says, it looks like Jason just stopped. Brick says, let’s go, and Jason flashes back to Britt saying she’ll take herself to the MetroCourt for a very public drink while all hell is breaking loose here. Jason tells Brick, wait here, and Brick says, what? Spinelli says, no, no, no, no, and Carly asks, what the hell Jason is doing?

Martin tells Ava, as much as he was dreading this dinner, he has to admit it was outstanding. Her chef crushed it. Ava laughs, and says she’s happy to hear that. She asks if anyone would like an after dinner drink, and Cyrus says he can’t think of a better way to cap off this delightful evening, and Nikolas says he’s glad they enjoyed it. Martin asks when Nikolas and Ava are renewing their vows, but Ava says they haven’t settled on a date. Cyrus says he hopes his great nephew Spencer will be joining them, but Nikolas says, Spencer’s plans don’t include Port Charles in the near future. Cyrus says, that’s too bad. He sees some of himself in young Spencer. Doc says, that’s quite a trick, considering they haven’t met. Cyrus says, no, he hasn’t had the pleasure, but Spencer’s reputation is notorious, and by all reports and observations, he’s thriving in Europe. Nikolas says Cyrus has been observing his son? and Cyrus says he likes to keep close tabs on family, doesn’t Nikolas? Nikolas says, let him be clear, his son is outside Cyrus’s realm of observation. Cyrus asks how Nikolas can say that, when their newfound relationship could be to his advantage? Nikolas asks how he figures that, and Cyrus says, maybe if Great Uncle Cyrus made a personal appeal to young Spencer, he might be willing to come back for the wedding. Laura says Cyrus won’t be attending, and Cyrus says, of course (🍷) he will. Sure, they’ve had their differences… Laura says, that’s an understatement, and Cyrus says, but they can all agree nothing is more important than family. Laura says the word family sounds like an obscenity coming out of Cyrus’s mouth. Let’s get something clear; Cyrus is not their family.

Cameron goes to Jason’s room, and opens the door. He sees the guard on the floor, and no Jason.

Nina tells Sonny, she is thinking of going back to Port Charles, but not because of her friend. He asks what that means, and she says her friend seems to think there’s a possibility she might be able to have a relationship with her grandson. He says, that’s nice; so she’s heading back? She says, no. She’s found a real peace there, and doesn’t know if she’s ready to risk that for a mere possibility. Does that make her a coward? He says he gets it. Sometimes, he can’t sleep, and he’s filled with questions about who he was. Maybe he should start searching, and not stop until he finds the answer.

Carly wonders, what the hell happened? Brick says Jason went back in for Britt, and Carly says, that wasn’t part of the plan. Brick says, tell him about it; the car is still there. She says, go find Jason, but Brick says, no. He’s got to stay there for when Jason comes back. Carly says she’s on her way, but Brick says, no, don’t. Spinelli asks where Carly is going, and she says she’s going to the hospital to make sure Jason is okay. He might need help. Spinelli tells her that he doesn’t think it’s advisable. Her phone rings, and it’s Josslyn. Carly asks if she’s okay, and Josslyn says she’s fine. Did anyone call her? Carly asks why someone would call her; did something happen at the tournament? Josslyn says, actually, she didn’t go, and Carly asks, where is she?

Finn tells Elizabeth, Anna got the antidote from Peter. It’s what she saw him inject into Chase’s IV portal. He’s sorry he lied, but she can’t say anything. If Peter finds out anyone knows he’s poisoning Chase, he’ll withhold the antidote, and Chase will die. She doesn’t understand. Why would Peter do that? He says, Anna wants to send Peter to prison for all the things he’s done, including Franco’s murder.

Jordan goes into Jason’s room, and sees the guard. She yells that she needs help, and checks his pulse. She gets on the phone and asks for security to cover all access to the hospital. Jason has escaped.

Britt struggles with BS janitor and other guy, when Jason comes in. He grabs the other guy, and she kicks bogus janitor in the balls. Jason punches other guy one more time, and he’s down. Britt says, what the hell? but he says, let’s go, and pushes her out the door. Other guy gets up, and runs after them, but counterfeit janitor is having a hard time.

Carly says Josslyn is rambling. She has no time for that; tell her where she is. Josslyn says, Pennsylvania, with dad. She didn’t think it would be a big deal. Carly tells her, put her father on the phone. Josslyn motions him over, and says, something is going on, handing him the phone. He says, Josslyn is fine, and Carly says, and apparently in Pennsylvania? He says he’ll tell her about it, and she says she wants him to, but can’t listen right now. She needs him to bring Josslyn back to Port Charles immediately, and don’t take his eyes off of her. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, promise he’ll bring her straight home. He says he will. Josslyn is safe with him. She says she’s counting on it.

Laura asks if Cyrus thinks this night was a success. Can he not see the contempt each and every one of them has for him? She tells Ava that she’s sorry. She thought she could do it. He says, do what exactly? and she says, spend the evening with him. Maybe she could have if he hadn’t kept pushing. He talks about family, but uses the word like a weapon. He says, if anyone is using family as a weapon right now, he thinks it’s her. She says he uses blackmail and fear to bond people to him because he’ll never have love, and that’s what scares him the most deep down inside. He knows he’ll always be pitiful and alone.

Nina asks if Sonny has started searching for his past, and he says, not yet. She says, why not? and he says he likes it there. It’s his new home, his new friends. She says, it seems to suit him, and he says, to risk all that for the unknown – he moves closer to her – it’s just kind of difficult to walk away. She says, yes.

Elizabeth asks Finn why Peter would kill Franco, and he says he guesses Peter knew Drew’s memories were coming back. He was afraid Franco might remember enough to incriminate him. She asks how he even knows all of this, and he says, Anna. And by telling her the truth, he’s putting Chase’s life in her hands. She says, Jason didn’t kill Franco… She told the police. She was wrong, and now Jason was stabbed in prison, and kept away from his family. Oh my God. Jason.

Jason drags Britt to the car, and other guy follows. Brick opens the door in slow motion, and Jason and Britt duck behind something. Other guy shoots, and Cameron comes onto the scene. Brick shoots, and Cameron dives behind a dumpster. Brick hits other guy, who falls. Cameron sees other guy’s gun, and Brick says, they’re clear.

Jordan runs down the stairs on the phone, saying, consider him armed and dangerous. Lock down the hospital. Lock it down now.

Spinelli sees, access denied, and tells Carly, he’s been locked out. The system overrode him. She tells him, get back in, but he says, he can’t; the system is rebooting. Whatever happens in the garage, is being recorded for posterity.

Phyllis says Sonny just missed a fan. A friend of Nina’s who came all the way from Port Charles to drive Mr. Jax home. The poor thing was starving, so Phyllis made her some pasta with his sauce. How she raved about it. He says he’s glad she liked it, and Phyllis says, liked it, she loved it. Too bad he couldn’t have met her for himself.

The nurse asks Jax to follow her so he can sign for his prescription, and Jax tells Josslyn and Trina that he’ll be right back. Trina asks how mad Josslyn’s mom was, and Josslyn says, something is going on; her mom couldn’t talk. She’s not looking forward to the lecture when she gets home. Did Trina bring back food? She’s starving. Trina says not unless Josslyn wants to chug spaghetti sauce. Josslyn says they gave Trina spaghetti sauce with no spaghetti? and Trina says she had the best pasta she’s had in her entire life. The nice lady at the Tan-O gave her a jar of sauce to take home. Maybe they can pick up some breadsticks and dip it. Josslyn says, sounds lovely, but she thinks she’ll pass. She’s officially a couch potato, so no more carbs for her. Trina says, more for her. Josslyn doesn’t know what she’s missing. Jax comes back and says, ready to go, and they leave.

Cyrus says as his sister congratulates herself on her ambush tonight, consider one thing. Laura says, what’s that? and he says, how much she enjoyed attacking him. He leaves, and as soon as he’s outside, his phone rings. Not really a custodian tells him that Britt got away. Cyrus asks, how? and he says, Morgan. He grabbed her and ran. Other guy went after them.

Martin tells Ava, as much as he’d like to stay for coffee and cake, he’s afraid Cyrus is his ride. He leaves, and Ava says, for Pete’s sake, couldn’t Laura hold it together until after a nightcap? Laura says she couldn’t take it, and Doc says he thought she was magnificent. Nikolas says, so did he. He wonders if they kept Cyrus long enough, and Laura says she doesn’t know, but hopes Carly had time enough to do what she needed to.

Carly says, the last Spinelli saw on the feed, Jason was okay? It didn’t look like Jason or Brick had been hit? He says, it didn’t look like Britt got hit either, and she says, so there’s still a chance they made it out, right? Spinelli nods.

Finn and Elizabeth hear an alarm, and Elizabeth sees an alert on her phone that says, an active shooter is on the premises. She tells Finn, and he locks the door, telling her to get away from it.

Brick says, let’s move, and Jason asks Britt how her ankle is. She says she rolled it; what about him? He says, not a problem; let’s go. He brings Britt to the car, as Cameron comes out, and Jason tells Brick that Britt hurt her ankle. Jason helps her into the car, as Cameron picks up the gun. Jason and Britt are both in the car, and Brick drives away. Jordan comes down the stairs, and tells Cameron, freeze. Cameron turns, and their guns are aimed at each other.

Tomorrow, Finn tells someone not to say another word, Dante tells Mac that his situation is complicated, Cyrus has a tragedy to attend to, and Britt tells Jason that he’s going to bleed to death if he doesn’t get to a doctor.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

I might start calling this show, Why Bother?

Trogir, Croatia, last day of charter. JL tells Gary that he’s got the water, as we see the temperature is 91 where the guests are at the castle. Gary remarks that JL only has three of them, but takes them and runs. It’s been fifteen minutes since the water was ordered. Gary jogs up the million steps, and says he told Daisy he’d be quicker than JL.

Dani reminds Natasha that Glenn is having dinner with the guests, and Gary asks Daisy how the food is this charter. Daisy says, it’s 100 times better. The last charter, the first breakfast was amazing, then they had the worst one. It’s quite obvious she and Natasha don’t like each other. Dani does a centerpiece with those tiny white lights I love, putting them inside glasses. The guests get ready to go back, and Daisy radios the boat. Guest Rachel wonders if Gary and Daisy are dating. Overhearing, Gary makes a surprised face.

Glenn says the only reason he’s putting on long pants is because he’s eating with the guests. The guests are seated for dinner, which is also a movie murder mystery. In Dani’s interview, she says she loves it. She used to spend whole nights playing RPG games as a kid. Hashtag: can relate. Gary and Colin carry chairs down stairs I would barely be able to get myself down, they’re so steep. And there’s a million of them. Daisy and Natasha go over the menu, and Glenn joins the guests. Daisy tells them that they each have a card explaining their character. After a while, she’s going to drop dead, and everyone has a motive. It will turn into a scavenger hunt for clues, and when her spirit arrives, they’ll point to whoever they think did it. Glenn is going to be an observer. The first course is served; fishcakes with pineapple salsa. In Glenn’s interview, he says he never did a murder mystery, and has no idea what he’s seeing. Dani serves lobster next, and a guest says if Natasha opens a restaurant, they’re going. Alli yells, someone has died! and Daisy lies on the ground, but starts laughing. The guests find clues, and guest Maggie says, the murderer was an only child, and primary Frank says, they do not have a dog. Primary Sheka says, they do not like drinking tap water, and guest Matt says, they like to be in front of the camera. Daisy comes back, and says her spirit has arisen from the dead. Who is the murderer? The guests flip over the cards on lanyards around their necks, and discover it’s Frank.

Glenn asks Colin what he thinks about the anchor, and Gary says, he’s good. Dani asks JL why he likes older women, and he says they know what they want. She asks if he knows what he wants, and he says, no. He wants her. Alli texts Gary to meet her on the bow, and JL kisses Dani in the galley. In Dani’s interview, she says what’s going on with JL is nothing, just fun, but she likes the fun. Gary meets with Alli, and they snuggle under a blanket. Alli asks how often he calls his mum, and he says, every day. She’s alone, and his brother is in New Zealand. She asks about his dad, and he says he used to visit his dad until he was 13. His dad has been trying to reconnect, but he’s been absent from Gary’s life for so long, he doesn’t know. Alli says she always thinks if she doesn’t maintain contact, she’ll regret it on her death bed. Dani and Daisy peek at Gary and Dani, and everyone finally goes back to their cabins.

In the morning, Gary curses Colin while airing out the bathroom. Alli tells Daisy about Sydney telling her that interior doesn’t help the deck crew, and Daisy tells Sydney, if the deck crew has a problem with interior, they need to deal with it. In Daisy’s interview, she says she’s effing angry, and Sydney tells her, Gary is the one it’s coming from. The guests toddle out, and sit on deck. In the galley, Gary asks Daisy, what’s with the hostility? and she says she’ll talk with him, but needs to finish what she’s doing. Alli filles him in, and he tells her, it’s not Sydney’s place to say anything. The guests sit for breakfast. In the crew mess, Glenn drinks coffee out of a thermos. Natasha makes a Mediterranean breakfast, and one of the guests says they don’t even like pita bread, but this is so good. Sydney tells Gary that he’d complained the girls weren’t helping, but he says it’s not her place to go to anyone. She told the third stew, who went to the chief stew, and now Daisy is pissed at him. Maybe he shouldn’t joke around anymore. In Sydney’s interview, she says she thinks it’s a bit much. She’s getting yelled at, when she stood by him. She thought she was doing the right thing, but she guesses she wasn’t.

Gary tells Daisy that he talked to Sydney, and told her it wasn’t her place to complain. Daisy says Sydney didn’t say anything wrong; she’s just frustrated. In Gary’s interview, he says he feels like he’s in kindergarten. He says if he has a problem, he’ll come to Daisy, and they hug. The guests swing out over the water on a rope, and it looks like it’s a lot of fun. Glenn gets the sails up, and radios the crew. He says they could get lucky, and get a nice breeze. Frank tells the other guests, the sails are up, and guests Lizzy and Rachel notice dolphins on the bow. Everyone runs to see them, and Sydney says, this is not an everyday occurrence. The guests think it’s magical, and Sydney says, it’s a good luck omen. Colin says, it’s effing lovely, and Natasha hugs Dani. Glenn says he’s going to return to port, and puts the sails down, but the chain gets wrapped around the anchor. Ugh. This is a real pain in the ass dangerous thing.

Glenn asks, what’s happening? and Colin tells him, hold it there for a second. In Colin’s interview, he says, it’s a huge f*** up when the chain is wrapped around the anchor. It’s hard see which way it’s wrapped, so someone has to get down there in order for them to unwrap and release the anchor. The chain will drop 27 meters below, and can crush a hand or rip a finger off. JL gets in the tender, and Glenn tells him, when the chain lets go, it will be going straight down, and he’ll go with it. There’s only a minute of air to figure it out. If he can get it loose there, it will be a big win. JL gets the chain unwrapped without injury, and Glenn says, well done. The guests wonder if JL fell in, but one of them says, he’s dry. Glenn calls the crew to the dock.

Frank thanks the crew, and says their expectations were exceeded, both the food and the experience. Sheka says, each of them made the experience special, and thanks them. Frank gives Glenn the tip envelope, and everyone changes. Gary calls his mom, and says he met a girl who makes him laugh. Alli tells Daisy that she’s grown a connection to Gary. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it put that way, and I’m reminded of the zombie tree in Fear the Walking Dead last night. Daisy tells Alli that if you like someone, you like them. You can’t not date them because they have a past. Gary’s mom tells him, take it slow. If they have a problem with him, tell them to call his mother. Glenn radios the crew for the tip meeting.

Glenn tells them, it was an almost perfect charter. They had a little problem at the end with the anchor, but JL did a fantastic job. In JL’s interview, he says he did save the day. He knows he deserves this tip. He’s happy. The tip is $15K, or $1660 each. Glenn says he has good news and bad news. The bad news is, there’s bad weather coming, so they’re going to leave at 8 am. But tomorrow, after the move, they have the entire day off. He hired their yacht neighbors to take them out to a nice beach where they can chill. It’s not a school night, and there’s a little bar nearby. He’d arranged for a table away from everyone where they can eat and drink.

We flash back to the last dinner, which didn’t go well. Daisy asks Sydney how she thinks it’s going to go, and Sydney can’t imagine it going worse. At the bar, the waiter leads them to a table by the water. Gary says, it’s like a one-day escape, and takes a selfie with Alli. In Sydney’s interview, she says she knew this was coming; the next stop on Gary’s train. It’s their thing now. She gives not one finger, but two. The food and drinks come, and Daisy tells Gary, be careful. He tells her, STFU, but don’t take it personally. Daisy says she doesn’t… She does. The older she gets, it gets worse. Natasha says they all think they’re flawed, but someone else might wish they had what that person perceives as a flaw. I ponder this… Alli and Gary hold hands, and Gary tells Alli that he doesn’t want to rush, and look like a d*ck. He obviously likes her. She says she likes him too, and in Alli’s interview, she says she doesn’t want Sydney to be upset, but at the same time, she’s more drawn to Gary every day. I gag on my coffee. Sydney is sitting a little too close, and asks if Colin minds switching seats with her. She sits next to Dani, who tells her, be awesome, look pretty, and have fun. Daisy wants to make a toast to Natasha, and says, to her best charter. She’s very impressed. They all raise their glasses to Natasha, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she still thinks Natasha is crazy, but since she decided to try to get on better with her, she sees a shift in Natasha’s attitude. Maybe Natasha thought if she couldn’t intimidate Daisy, now she has to impress her. Maybe. She laughs.

They go back to the boat, and Gary tells Alli, there will be animosity for a couple hours. Colin asks how Sydney feels, and she says, they can do what they want. Alli tells Gary that Sydney is effing pissed, and Gary pretends to care about everyone’s feelings. He tells Alli that he’s changing into his PJs. JL and Dani flirt, and Sydney tells Colin that she and Gary had a tryst (who uses that word???). She doesn’t know what changed, but whatever did, did. Dani tells Alli to join them, and Natasha, Daisy, and Colin sit with them too. Alli says she wants Dani’s advice about a situation, and they go inside. Alli says she thinks Sydney is being rude, but Dani says she doesn’t. What Sydney and Colin had was drunken sex, but Alli can’t expect Sydney to be 100% cool. She thinks Alli and Gary really like each other, and should enjoy it. Alli says she’ll let it go a little more, and they hug.

Dani comes back, and stands in the doorway. JL asks, how’d it go? and she asks how this is going to go, indicating her body. Gary and Alli go to the inside bar, and Gary says she can get the drinks; he’ll supervise. He tells her that he wants to be with her, and they kiss. No surprise, here comes Sydney, who says, it’s fine. Don’t be weird. She’s just getting a Heineken. The only weird thing is how she keeps popping in on them every time they’re alone. Weird and creepy. Like stalker creepy. In Alli’s interview, she says, this is awkward.

Alli heads for the bathroom, and Gary tells her to make sure she flushes, or Daisy will have a fit. Sydney tells Colin that she’s stressed, and Colin gives her a beer. Dani suggests Sydney join her and JL, but she says she doesn’t want to because Alli is coming back. She wants to avoid Alli as much as she can. Dani says Sydney is amazing, and Sydney says she and Gary f***ed. Dani says she knew that already, and in her interview, says that Sydney isn’t telling her because she wants it kept secret. She wants Dani to pass it on, but she’ll have to tell Alli herself if she wants Alli to know. Dani tells her, come on, and they join the others. Dani twerks, then Daisy tries, failing miserably. Colin goes to get drinks, and Alli tells Daisy that she and Gary kissed. Daisy says, it was bound to happen. JL bitches about having to clean the teak, and Dani says she has to clean up the bar, but it’s okay. Everyone is having fun. She tells him that he’s being a p*ssy. Gary comes back with the drinks, and Dani asks if JL is going to be angry. In her interview, she says she’s an emotional drunk, but a drunk JL is like a little flower that doesn’t have water.

Dani and Alli start kissing, and Gary and Colin sit outside, smoking. Dani say she want to do a lot with JL, but JL is outside telling Colin and Gary that it turns him off the way Dani is acting. The girls are now all inside at the bar, and they screech. JL wonders, WTF is going on? Dani tells him she wants to talk, and pulls him up. Daisy says she’s going to bed. Alli says, JL has competition tonight, and Gary says, the chicks are looking to get laid. Natasha – who we almost forgot was there – says, it’s not just about sex. It’s about things like holding hands. Sydney says, good sex goes hand in hand with a great work ethic. Colin asks if the sex was good with Gary, but Sydney says, no. She’s had better drunk sex. Dani tells JL, she’s just trying to have sex. Alli tells Dani, let’s go, and in Gary’s interview, he wonders, who’s c*ck blocking who? Dani tells Alli, she doesn’t know how clearer she can be. JL tells Gary that he and Dani already hooked up, but if she’s starting to act like that, he doesn’t like that sh*t. Dani and Alli get in one of the beds, and start kissing. JL continues, saying he was bitching about the teak, and Dani told him that he was being a p*ssy. He was being practical. He knows he’ll have to clean it. Natasha says she’s not giving herself to anyone who’s not with it, but what it is, is unclear. JL complains some more, and Gary asks if he wants a drink or not. Dani and Alli close the bedroom door, and we hear… sounds. JL and Gary decide to go looking for them, and Gary says, imagine if they were naked. It would be epic. They stand outside the bedroom door and listen. SMH.

JL and Gary can’t believe it, and JL knocks, saying, open up. One of them says, no, and Gary says, it’s happening. Sydney and Natasha talk about how limited the options are on a boat. Alli finally opens the door, and the guys go into the suite. Colin says they’re a bunch of horny MF’ers. Gary asks what they were doing, and Alli says they were talking. Dani and JL walk off together, and go into another bedroom. Wow. Their rules are a lot different from motor yacht rules. Behind closed doors, Dani tells JL that she worked hard for this body, and she’s not doing it in the dark. He says, holy Mary Mother Josie [sic].

Natasha says she thinks Sydney needs to like something different. Gary and Alli sit on deck, and Gary kisses her. Colin asks Sydney, what’s going on with her, but Sydney says, now is not the time to speak her mind. Colin tells her that she should say what she thinks, and Alli says she thought Sydney said she had no secrets. Sydney says she doesn’t spill her guts to strangers, which is what Alli is. Alli is insulted, and says she thought they were friends. She stomps back to Gary, and Sydney says, they’re not friends; they’re just roommates. She hears Alli talking to Gary, and says, now Alli is bitching about her. Alli tells Gary that Sydney is passive/aggressive, and she doesn’t know why Sydney is pissed. Colin admits he’d be uncomfortable knowing he had something with someone who’d moved on, and Sydney says, it’s a weird situation. Colin and Sydney go to have a smoke, and now the stalker tables have turned, and Alli asks if Sydney is ready to hash it out. Sydney asks what Alli’s problem is, and Alli says she knows Sydney felt some kind of way when she and Gary were being affectionate. Sydney says Alli must feel guilty. It doesn’t make her uncomfortable. Alli asks why Sydney is cold toward her then, and Sydney asks why Alli is forcing the conversation? Alli say she cares about Sydney, but Sydney says, no she doesn’t. Colin tells Gary, they’re hashing it out, and Gary says no way two girls are fighting over him, and Gary says he doesn’t believe it either. That makes three of us. Alli demands Gary come over there, and says, this is not her problem. Gary says, it’s no one’s problem. He joins them, and says he’s sorry, but he doesn’t have the same feelings for Sydney that he does for Alli. Sydney tells them, do what they want, just leave her alone, and starts to cry.

Next time, a day off; Dani says, a lot of feelings are going on; something goes wrong with the engine, and the yacht hits the dock.

😴 Later Than Late…

So I’ll just say, stay safe, stay adaptable, and stay always having a Plan B, in case things go sideways.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Fear the Walking Dead

We see people working in an underground greenhouse, and a voiceover says, death, destruction, decay. What’s happening to the world isn’t new. The world has been breaking down since its inception until now. Everything is winding down, including us. Death is inevitable, but from death comes new life. The decaying body feeds the soil, which in turn feeds the plants, which feed us and the creatures who sustain us. That’s the way it’s always been, and the way it will always be. People see death everywhere, but if they looked hard enough, and with open eyes, they’d see life. It’s not their fault; they don’t know how. They’re seeing the way they always have. We know the truth and they don’t; we can see, they can’t. It’s incumbent upon them to help others to be unafraid of what’s to come. Do you know truth? Can you see? Can you help them be unafraid?

A woman stares at a part zombie, part tree. Riley tells her, hurry up. They have new arrivals coming. They’re going to be hungry. She says she was trying to see like Teddy, but it hasn’t happened yet. The zombie tree reaches out.

Riley asks where the new recruits are. Teddy says they’re in bad shape. The elevator doors open, and Alicia, Al, Wes, and Luci are there. Riley tells them, it’s okay. He knows they’ve been through a lot not. No one’s going to hurt them. Welcome to The Holding. He thinks they’ll like it here. They come out of elevator into what looks like a community room. Wes asks if Al is sure this is the place Virginia was talking about, and she says, yeah. Wes sees a tree painted on the wall, with the end is the beginning written above it.

A mic and recorder are set up. Alicia asks why Riley is recording, and he says, for Teddy. She asks who Teddy, and Riley says he’s the reason they’re all there. She asks if he’s there now, and Riley says, his presence is always with them. She says, he’s dead? but Riley says, no. He’s very much alive. When you cannot see, he guides you, and when you can’t walk, he’ll carry you. They’re lucky to have found them when they did. She says she’d like her weapon back, but he says, no outsiders are allowed to carry. He learned that lesson the hard way. He asks what they were doing on the road, and she says, scavenging.

He asks where they came from. Wes has replaced Alicia, and says, a place where they’re never going back. Riley asks, why? Teddy is interested in the path that led them there. Over the loudspeaker – which is always going – we hear, we found you, and helped you to see the truth. People look around up there, and see death everywhere. They gaze not on what’s really there. If they truly looked with open eyes, they would see life.

Wes asks, how many people live there? Al asks, are they allowed to leave? Luci says, she’s lived in a place like this before, but Riley says he doubts it. She asks how he can be sure, but he says, there is no place like this. There has never been a place like this.

Zombies are being ground up in a machine, and Al asks how long it takes to break them down. Riley says, a couple of months. They take the bones out for chicken meal. She asks if it’s safe, and he says, this is how all living creatures have decomposed from the beginning of time. Al says, food, water, power, impressive. It also feels like they’re preparing for something. He says they found the group at the right time. He thought he’d let Teddy tell them when he returned, and they can figure out if they want to stay. She says, there’s no reason they shouldn’t know now, and he says Teddy will be closing the doors soon for good. Alicia asks, why? and he says, so they never need to go topside again. That’s the old way. This is a new day. This is where life is beginning again. Ali asks how many people have been allowed to leave, and he says he’s more interested in what she has to say. One question in particular he likes to ask. She says, what is it? Can you see?

They stand in front of the zombie tree, and Riley says, it’s the simplest one there is. What does she see when she looks at it? She says, he’s see joking right? He says, no. Take a good look. Exactly what does she see? She says, a walker who should be in the ground, and he says, anything else? It’s okay. Nobody gets hung on their first try. He asks, what’s troubling her? Be honest; Teddy will know if she’s not. She asks, why would he have something to say about how she feels? and he says, Teddy can look in your eyes and see the truth in a way no one else can, not even her. Her answer will go a long way gaining Teddy’s favor.

Luci asks, what kind of trick is this? and Riley says he’s trying to gage how much she has left to learn. She says, it feels like a trick, and he says, she’s a skeptic. She keeps answering his questions with questions. He likes skeptics. When they’re won over, they’re true believers. As everyone there is.

Al asks what she’s looking for, and Riley says, there is no right or wrong answer.

Wes says he sees an eater, and Riley says, look closer. Wes asks, who painted the trees? and Riley wonders why he’s asking. Wes says he used to be a painter, and Riley asks what he painted. Wes says, all kinds of things. He started copying his brother. Riley says Wes has a brother? and Wes says, had. Alicia says, his name was Nick. Luci says, Pablo. Al says, her brother was her best friend. Wes says, he wanted be just like his brother. Why does Riley ask? Riley says, it’s about family. Teddy says, their survival is dependent on it. Each generation gives way to the next. Riley says, it looks like Alicia is being reminded of something, and she says, her mom grew crops in the place where they used to be. He asks, what happened to her? and Alicia says, she gave her life so they could live. Riley says, her end was your beginning.

The group reconvenes, and Al asks if they found out anything. Alicia says they have to gain The Holding’s trust, and Luci says, and Teddy’s. Has anyone seen him? None of them have, and Alicia says, in the meantime, they’ll find out what they can, why Virginia was scared sh*tless, and get the hell out. Luci says, it could be a long time before the people there get out. Riley joins them, and says, the others have returned. It’s time for them to meet Teddy. They wait by the elevator, and when it opens, Wes’s brother Derek comes out, and asks if they missed lunch. He’s starving. Riley asks where Teddy is, and Derek says, he’ll be back later. Wes walks forward, and says, Derek? Derek says, he’s alive? and hugs Wes. Wes says, Derek is alive, and Derek says, so is he, and they hug again. Alicia says, they found their way out.

Derek and Wes sit at a table, and Wes says, he doesn’t know how long it’s been since he was thinking Derek had been torn to pieces. Couldn’t he drink black coffee? Derek says, is Wes seriously mad because he went looking for creamer? Wes says he doesn’t know, and Derek says he’s sorry; he really is. He found some condensed milk, a whole crate of it, but when he went outside, he got cornered. He ran into a shed, and the eaters were clawing at it. He passed out, and thought that was it, but when he woke up, he was there. They saved him, just like they saved Wes. Wes asks if Derek thought to look for him, and Derek says he did, but Wes was gone… and so was his bike. Wes says he couldn’t stick around, and Derek asks, what happened? but Wes says Derek doesn’t want know. Derek says, it seems like Wes is running with good people. Wes says, things were a little bumpy at first, but they’re headed in the right direction. He says it looks like Derek is still painting, and Derek says he’s just trying to help people see what he does. Wes asks, what’s that? and Derek says, he saw people painting things on trees like, if you’re reading this, you’re still here. That wasn’t going to change anything. They meant well, but it didn’t mean anything. Teddy helped him see that, and now what he’s doing there means something. Wes asks, what exactly is Derek doing, but Derek says he’s not sure Wes is ready for that. Wes asks when he’ll be ready, and Derek says, when Wes sees like he does. He has to do a shift in the garden; he’ll catch Wes at dinner. Derek leaves, and Wes looks at the tree painting. Luci joins him, and says, be careful. Wes says no one is going to hurt him, and she says, what about Tanktown? What they did to everyone. He says, Derek doesn’t know about that, and Alicia says, did Wes ask him? Wes says, there’s no way Derek would do something like that, but Luci says, when people are desperate, they start believing things, and doing things they never thought they would. She did. He shakes his head, and says, Derek is different.

Gary walks to his shift, with the ever-present loudspeaker going. Al asks what Wes’s brother said, but Wes says, not much. He said he wouldn’t tell him anything until he can see, like Derek does. She says he’s probably waiting to see if they can be trusted, and Wes says, maybe they’re not the threat Virginia thought they were. Maybe it wasn’t about them. Maybe it’s about Virginia. Maybe they were trying to take her out, or maybe she was trying to make us paranoid. Al says, what happened at the tower; they set that up. Wes says, there’s only one way to find out. He’ll ask. Derek sits down, and asks how they’re settling in. It takes some getting used to, not knowing if it’s day or night, but the food makes up for it. He tells Alicia that Wes said she pulled him through a rough patch after he left, and she says Wes helped her out too. A guy comes by, and says something to Derek, and Wes asks, what is it? Derek says, nothing. He has to go topside for a bit. He suggests they try the rhubarb pie. He leaves, and Luci says, what the hell was that? Al asks if Wes knows where Derek’s bunk is, and he says he does. She says, let’s get to work then.

Al asks if Wes found anything, but he hasn’t. They continue to look through Derek’s stuff, and she asks if Wes hears that. We hear a rushing, gurgling sounds, but Wes encourages Al to keep going. Al says, there’s got to be something, and Wes picks up a can of condensed milk. The lid comes off, and he sees papers inside. He pulls out some things with the three circles on them, and calls Al over. Al asks how the hell Derek got this, and Wes asks, what are they? she says, stuff he shouldn’t have. She opens a floorplan, and says, this about more than Ginny. His brother and everyone there are trying to do as much damage as they can. He says she doesn’t know that, and she says, what about Tanktown? He says, that doesn’t mean anything, but she says, this does, showing him a log. Logs of when Virginia was sending people to Tanktown, and they were keeping track. Of other places too. She’s not saying Derek knew Wes was there, but he knew what they were doing. She’s sorry. He says Derek thinks these people helped him to see more clearly, but they’re not. Maybe it’s time for him to see things another way. Al asks how they’re going to do that, and Wes says, they’ll have to get Derek out of there.

Wes watches as Derek paints. Wes says, Derek did it. Those places he set up for attacks. Derek puts his brush down, and asks how Wes knows that. Wes says, the maps. Why did he do it? Derek says, Wes won’t understand; he’s not ready, and Wes says, why not? Derek says he told Wes; he can’t see. It’s okay; Derek couldn’t either. Not until he met Teddy. Wes says Teddy convinced Derek that killing is the right thing? and Derek says, they have to start over. They can’t until everyone and everything is gone up there. Wes asks if that includes him, and Derek asks what Wes is talking about. Wes says he was at the oil fields. He shows Derek his scars, and says he ate shrapnel. He never felt so much pain. He almost died, and lost friends, people he cared about. Derek says he didn’t know. He would have gotten Wes out. Wes says, but Derek would have killed the rest of them. Derek says, it’s what Teddy wants, but Wes says he doesn’t give a damn. People died. Wes killed people. What does he think about that? Good, innocent people; he killed them. Wes knows this ain’t him. Come with them. Derek says, those places up there are about how they used to live. This is how he wants to live now. Wes says where he lives isn’t about the past. It’s about how and where things are going to be. They won’t make Derek do anything he doesn’t want to, like this Teddy. Derek says Wes is thinking like Morgan, and asks, what about Virginia? Wes says, she’s dead. Morgan helped bring her down. Derek asks where Morgan is, and Wes says, come with them. Derek asks, where? and Wes asks, what does it matter? These people aren’t helping Derek see; they’re blinding him. He’s so lost, Wes knows Derek probably won’t come. To do what he did. The things… Wes is his brother; Derek just has to trust him. Derek looks around, and says, if they catch him trying leave, they’ll kill him. They’ll kill all of them. Wes says, then let’s not get caught.

Derek joins the group, and they go down in the elevator. Al says, when they get out, they’ll travel off the main roads. Alicia says, they’ll need weapons and food, and Al says, there was an emergency drop outside the city. Alicia asks what’s in Derek’s bag? and he says, maps, coordinates, places they were planning to hit next. She says, he’s bringing them? and he says, so nobody else gets hurt. She pops him in the nose, and grabs his gun, aiming it at him. She says, after what happened, they’re not taking any chances. Wes says he’s not leaving his brother. Just because Virginia screwed them over, doesn’t mean Derek will do the same thing. Alicia says, they can come back for him, but right now they have everything they need to take them down. They know the places that are going to be hit. Let’s go. Riley steps out with a bunch of his men, and says, they’re not going anywhere.

The group is pulled into a room with a lot of equipment, and Wes asks where his brother is. What are they doing to him? Alicia asks where the hell this is, and Al says, it’s embalming equipment. It’s a funeral home. Riley says, they won’t decay, and they can’t return to the earth, but it doesn’t have to be like this. Where’s Morgan Jones? Alicia asks how Riley knows Morgan, and he asks, where’s the place Morgan set up? He knows it’s not out of Virginia’s settlements. Who’s first? He nods at Wes, and a guy turns on a machine. Wes struggles with one of the men, and Riley says, his brother thought he’d be more cooperative. Derek comes in and says, answer him or he’ll kill you, and Wes says, Derek planned this. Derek says, only when Wes said they were with Morgan. They’ve been playing them. Wes says, they’re trying to help get Derek out, but Derek says he doesn’t want to leave. What he’s doing there means something. Wes says he’s trying to understand, and Derek says, this is where he needs to be. He saw the truth, and believes Wes can too. Let’s go find out. Wes leaves with Derek.

Back at the zombie tree, Derek asks Wes to tell him what he sees. Wes says he needs to ask one question first. They had people in the oil fields reporting back; it’s the only way they could have pulled it off. Did Derek know he was there? Derek says, people are people. Now tell him what he sees. Wes says he sees someone just like him. Someone walking, even though he’s dead inside. Derek says that’s exactly how he felt, but Wes says, he wasn’t talking about himself. Wes tries to grab Derek’s gun, and they struggle. Wes is almost shot, but gets the better of Derek, shoving him into the zombie tree, who (which?) bits him. I say, well, this isn’t good, and Wes says, I love you, man. He lowers Derek to the floor, cocks the gun, and says again that he loves Derek. We hear a shot.

Riley hears the shot, and says, what the hell? Do it. His men grab everyone, but Wes comes in behind Riley and grabs him, holding the gun against him. Wes says, let them go, and Alicia realizes Derek isn’t there. She tells Wes that she’s sorry, and he says, him too. He tells the men, back away, and keeps Riley in front of him as a shield. He says, he’s the one who thought people were capable of more than saving their own skin. They go through a door, Wes last, leaving Riley behind, and they shut the door behind them. Al says, they have a couple of minutes, tops. They shine flashlights around, and see they’re in a room of zombies hanging from the ceiling. Al says, they’re all involved… Their jaws are wired shut. Riley and his men bang on the door, and the group walks through the zombies. Riley says, break it down, and Luci calls to Al. Al tells her, go ahead. One of the zombies is wearing a uniform like Isabelle’s, and is wearing a headcover. Al pulls it off, but it’s not Isabelle. It breaks the wires in its jaw, and Al slices open its throat. Instead of blood, green embalming fluid pours out.

The door opens a crack, and Luci says, now. Alicia says they’ve got to take this place down, and Al says, embalming fluid is flammable. She starts to slice the zombies’ throats open, but Alicia says, go; she’s got this, She takes over, and Wes says, let him, but she says he has to get the maps to Morgan. He told her people can do more, and they can. He says, they can’t leave her, but she says, they can; she’ll be right behind him. He runs, and she stabs the rest of the zombies as she moves through them. The door is almost off, and she lights a match. As the door opens completely, she drops it. Nice.

Morgan says he thought Alicia would be fine. Al says, she might have, and Morgan asks about the rest of them. Al says, some got away. He asks, how many? but she says, all they could see was fire. Morgan says, they were planning something, and Luci says, something big. Big enough keep them there for a long time. Al says they knew who Morgan was, and were trying to find him. Morgan asks if they have any idea why, but Al says, no. A woman says, whatever they were doing, it’s not going to happen. They’ve got to stop them. Morgan says, they’ll do what they can for Alicia, and Dwight asks if there’s any gas left. The woman says, no, but the horses are fed and watered. Dakota says she wants to help, but Morgan says, no. She says she wouldn’t be there but for Alicia. She’s the reason they went there, and she wants to do it for Alicia, for all of them. Morgan says he appreciates what she’s done, but they’re not there yet. They’ll start with the parking garage, and track what they left, He and Luci leave, but Al stays behind.

Dwight says he appreciates what Al has done, and asks if she’s all right. She says, the places that they’re targeting, the maps have drop safes all over them. If they had a chopper, they could take out a lot of people. He says, and her lady? Al says she has to find her and warn her. She’d thought she lost her. Dwight says he gets it, but if Al doesn’t check in, in a couple of days he’s going to come looking for her.

Alicia looks through stuff in the embalming room, when Riley comes in with another guy. She asks, what the hell was this? Why is keeping her there? Riley says, bodies feed the soil; the soil in turn, feeds the plants. Death brings new life. For most, but not for her. They’re going preserve her as she is. She tells the guy, don’t come any closer, and Riley says, get her ready. He has the feeling Teddy will want to do this himself. He leaves, and the guy turns on the machine. He says, it will go faster if she cooperates, and gestures to the table. He comes toward her, and she stabs him in the eye with a knife. She tries to get out, but he grabs her, and they roll over the table. He grabs a knife, and tries to stab her, but misses, stabbing the ground. He pins her down, but she sticks her thumb in the eye she stabbed, and grabs the embalming fluid needle, and stabs him in the neck. I laaagh. She scoots away.

Someone walks in with Riley, but Alicia’s vision is blurry. We assume it’s Teddy. He stabs the newly dead guy in the head, and wipes the blade off on the guys shirt. Yep it’s John Glover Teddy. He tells Riley to give them a moment, and Riley leaves. Alicia says, so he’s the king of crazy, and he says, she’s Alicia. She asks how he knows her name, and he says he’s been listening to her voice. Riley made a recording of her when she first arrived. He moves closer, and she tells him, back off, but he says, if he meant her harm, they wouldn’t be having this conversation. She gave herself up so her friends could escape. They left her. She says she made them, and he says, they obliged. Some family. Family should be sacred. It is the beginning of every one of them. Did she sacrifice herself because she’s noble, or is she punishing herself, or following in her mother’s footsteps. Alicia shakes her head, and says she doesn’t care what he thinks or says. Whatever it is, get to it. He says, it’s okay; he’s a bit of mama’s boy himself. There’s a lot they can learn from each other. She says she’s not buying any of this sh*t he’s selling. What’s next? Does he want to kill her? That’s not going to happen. He says, she and the folks she came here with destroyed years of work, years of sacrifice, literally and figuratively. They destroyed it. Someone else in his position might find that unforgivable. He laughs, and says, if one lives by the sword… She knows how it goes. From every end springs a new beginning. She asks what he wants, and he says, to save her. Now it’s her turn to laugh, and she says she doesn’t need saving. He says he knows she doesn’t believe in this, or in them… yet, but she will. He’s been looking for someone like her for a long time. He holds out his hand and smiles.

Next time, Riley finds Morgan, Riley tells Morgan that he has something they want, lots of zombies, and a fire.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly says she doesn’t have time for Ava, but Ava says, it’s important. It’s about Avery. She’s in trouble. Carly tells her to come in, and asks, what kind of trouble? Ava says, the kind that comes from Cyrus Renault. Ava sees Laura on the couch, and Laura says, what about Cyrus? Carly’s phone rings, and it’s Britt.

Nina goes into the Tan-O, and Sonny says, hi. He asks how her friends is, and she says, on the mend. He asks how she is, and she says, fine. She was hoping he’d fill this thermos with coffee, so she could take it with her. He says, she’s going on a trip? and she says she’s bringing her friend back home. He says, he’s leaving Nixon Falls?

Jax struggles to put on his shirt, when Phyllis knocks on the door. He tells her, come in, and she rushes over to help him. She asks, how’s the shoulder? and he says, every time it flares up, he thinks about how Nina could have gotten shot, and how close he came to losing her. Phyllis says she sees. That means he’s not giving up on her. He says, he’s not, and she says, then he didn’t hear a word she said. He tells her, he heard every word she said, and he agrees with her. He has to respect Nina’s wishes. She asks if that shouldn’t be the end of it, and he says, it’s not the end; it’s a pause, a break between rounds. Because Nina’s worth fighting for.

Trina looks under the hood of the car, and Josslyn says, the dashboard light says, check engine. Trina says she’s checking, but she doesn’t know what she’s looking for. Josslyn looks at her phone and says she’ll see if she can find something online that can help. Trina says she’s sorry, but Josslyn says, what for? It’s not her fault the car overheated. Trina says she doesn’t think they’re going to get to Josslyn’s dad.

Alexis is working in the prison library, when Maggie asks if the warden is a friend of hers. Alexis says, no; why? and Maggie says, a cushy job like this needs connections. Just asking. Alexis hands Maggie two volumes, and says she pulled these books for her. They’ll help with her parole. Maggie thanks her, and says Alexis has been very helpful. She appreciates it. She adds, Alexis needs to watch out. Getting special treatment can put a target on your back. She leaves, and Alexis hears a voice saying he thinks he’s a bit overdue. She turns around to see Shawn, who says, hello, Alexis.

Britt tells Carly that she’s calling to tell her that her appointment has been rescheduled for Thursday, like she wanted. Carly thanks her, and says she’s feeling better already. Elizabeth approaches Britt and asks if she knows who installed all the new faces on the floor, like the janitor (i.e. the guy who was in Britt’s office yesterday) over there. Britt says she doesn’t know. HR approves new hires. Elizabeth asks if any of the new hires are security, or is one guard from Pentenville enough to handle Jason?

The guard says Cameron can’t be in Jason’s room, but Jason asks if he can stay. They need to talk.

Nina says, her friend can’t find his way back to Port Charles, so she’s going to drive him. Sonny says, good. The guy took a bullet. The least he deserves is a free ride, and a thermos full of Lenny’s coffee. She says she told him that she was going to drive to Port Charles; she didn’t say she was going to stay there. Sonny asks what she’s going to do. Drive there, and drop him off at his big mansion, and drive back? She says she’s going to take care of some stuff at Crimson, then she has a few loose ends to take care of. Then she’ll get in the car and drive back to Nixon Falls.  He says, it seems like a long drive to drop someone off and come back. Is her friend worth it?

Jax tells Phyllis that he has a lot to prove to Nina, and he’s going to start by helping her be a part of her grandson’s life. He spoke to the boy’s father, and he seems open to it. Phyllis says she’s glad he’s doing what he can to help Nina see her grandson, and he says, but? She says she’s hoping it’s not just an avenue he’s using to win Nina back. He says, he loves her, and wants her back, but he wants her happiness more. She asks if he loves Nina enough to let her go.

Trina tells Josslyn, her mom’s motor club is sending someone. If they can’t fix it, they’ll tow them. They should be there within the hour. Josslyn says she’d hate to drive all this way to see her dad, and by the time they get there, he’s gone. Trina says, maybe they should have stuck to Plan A, and gone to the volleyball championship in Syracuse. At least they’d be with their friends. Josslyn says, sorry. She’d rather be pulled over there, with a check engine light. Sitting on the sidelines would be just another reminder that her final season is over, and so are her hopes for getting off the waitlist at SCU. Trina says she knows Josslyn is disappointed, but it’s Southern Coastal’s loss, and PCU’s gain. Think about how much fun they’ll have at PCU. Josslyn guesses she’s right, and Trina says, if Cameron bails on California, and joins them, that’s even better. Josslyn says she knows Trina is trying to make her feel better, but she has no idea what to do about Cameron right now. He’s convinced Jason killed Franco, and wants her to agree, but she won’t. She knows Jason didn’t do it. How do they get past that? Trina says, maybe start be realizing what’s going on between her and Cameron isn’t entirely about Jason. It’s also about Josslyn and Cameron.

The guard says Cameron can talk to the prisoner, but the door stays open. He’ll be right outside. Cameron tells the guard, yes, sir. He says, Jason wanted to talk, so talk. Jason says, you go first. That’s why Cameron came there. Cameron tells him, he had a lot to say when he first found out Jason was there. Now that he sees Jason, he wants to see Jake’s father, the father Jake believes in so much, but he can’t. He just sees the person who killed Franco.

Britt asks if she has to remind Elizabeth that Jason is a patient there, and will be treated as such. Elizabeth says, so that guy over there has nothing to do with Jason? and Britt says, it might surprise Elizabeth, but HR doesn’t need to clear personnel decisions with the part-time nursing staff. Elizabeth says, something strange is going on. Jason is there for a minor stab wound, something that could have been treated in the prison infirmary. Why? Britt says, maybe it looked worse than it was. Maybe they were afraid of being sued by the Quartermaines. Who knows? Clearly, Jason’s presence there is upsetting Elizabeth. Maybe it’s time they had a talk about her status at GH.

Carly asks Ava, what’s going on with Avery? and Ava says, Cyrus came by, and claimed he was there to see Nikolas. When she said Nikolas wasn’t there, Cyrus made himself at home anyway. Carly tells her to get to the part about Avery, and Ava says Nikolas thought if he got Cyrus’s mother back, Alexis would be kept safe in Pentenville. Laura says she told him he was making a deal with the devil, and Ava says, they all did. When she suggested to Cyrus that he had no further business with Nikolas, he started talking about family; how Nikolas was his nephew, and she was his niece-in-law. Then he picked up a photo of Avery, and pointed out how she bears a striking resemblance to her father. Carly says, that son of a bitch. Now does Laura see why Carly needs her help?

Nina tells Sonny that she’ll be gone two days, three tops. He says he’s glad to hear it. Who else would risk their toes being his dance partner? He asks if he can be a little pushy, and she says, why stop now? He says, it seems like she’s going out of her way for this guy who hurt her; keeping a secret about her child from her. What decent man does that? She says, he was trying to spare her some pain, which was not his decision to make. He should have trusted her enough to believe she was strong enough to face the truth. Eli comes in, and says, trust. That’s the key to every lasting relationship. Wouldn’t Mike/Sonny agree?

Jax tells Phyllis, if Nina is happier without him, of course (🍷) he’ll let her go. In the meantime, he reserves the right to at least try. She says she can tell he would move heaven and earth for Nina, if he could, and he says he would. She says, what if Nina’s not looking for a superhero, but just someone who will simply tell her the truth? He says, unlike him. He can assure Phyllis, it was an isolated incident. She says, one he can’t take back. Nina came there looking for a different life. It’s too soon to say if she found it, but if she decides she’s found a future there in Nixon Falls, then he has to let her choose it. She wishes him a safe journey, and he says, what if Nina decides her life is in Port Charles? Phyllis says, then he needs to step back, and let Nina come to him.

Josslyn tells Trina that she and Cameron were good until Franco was killed, and Cameron convinced himself Jason did it. Trina says, what if they weren’t? What if something was wrong between them already? Josslyn asks what Trina is trying to tell her, and Trina says she shouldn’t have mentioned it. It’s not her place to say. Josslyn says, since when has that stopped her? and Trina says, never, and Josslyn deserves to know. Josslyn says, know what? and Trina says, not what, who. May he rest in peace.

Alexis says, not that she’s complaining, but how did Shawn get access into the women’s wing? He says, special privilege; to access books the men’s wing doesn’t have on the shelves. Of course (🍷) he had to wait a couple of years to prove himself before they let him in. He asks what her secret is, and she says, they needed a library assistant, and everyone has always said she comes across bookish. He says, when TJ told him that she was sentenced there, he thought TJ made a mistake. She says, just a cavalcade of great personal errors, and he says, TJ told him that she pled guilty. She says she wanted to face the consequences, and as it happens, those consequences are right here. He asks if it’s true she stabbed Dante, and she says she went on a booze-fueled rampage, and almost killed Franco, but Dante got in the way. He says, that’s a lot, and she says it is. Does he remember how he couldn’t quit working for Sonny, and it ended with him being put in there? She couldn’t quit drinking, and it landed her there. He says she remembers them, and she says he’s not easy to forget. He says he doesn’t look back and try to figure out what might have been; not too much anyway. She says, eyes forward, and he says, something like that. She says, it turns out they’re family anyway; they’re in-laws. He says, Molly and TJ. Who knew when they met all those years ago as a couple of kids, they’d go the distance? She says, lucky them, and he agrees.

Elizabeth says she barely has any status left, and Britt says, the fact is, Elizabeth lost her husband, horribly and violently, and then came back to work too quickly. The head of infectious diseases asked that she be reassigned not to care for Detective Chase. If this pattern continues, Britt’s hands will be tied, and she can’t help. She thinks a leave of absence is in order – effective immediately

Cameron says, Jake keeps telling him that Jason didn’t do it. Jason says he told Jake the truth, and it’s exactly what he’ll tell Cameron. Cameron wonders if Jason is going to make him ask if he did it. He already knows the answer. Jason says, based on what? Cameron wasn’t there; he doesn’t know what happened. Cameron says, the cops think he did it. They arrested Jason and sent him to prison. Jason says, to await trial. He’s innocent until proven guilty. Cameron says that works great for Jason. He thinks he’ll get away with it, and why not? Jake thinks he’s a hero, Josslyn thinks he’s so great, but Franco is his hero, and he was an art therapist, not a killer like Jason.

Ava says, the way Cyrus was admiring that photo, you could practically hear it would be a shame if anything happened to her tanging in the air. Laura says, this has got to stop, and Carly asks if that means Laura will help her. Ava asks, help with what? but Carly says it doesn’t concern Ava. Ava tells Carly, if it concerns her mother-in-law and her daughter, she’d say it concerns her. Carly says, Ava chose to back Nikolas, who put them in the position of losing the leverage they had left, and Ava tells her, give it a rest. Carly kidnapped a sick old lady. Laura says, in fairness, Florence was well-cared for and happy, but when they had her, they had a check on Cyrus. That check is gone now. Ava says, Nikolas thought he was helping his aunt, and Laura says she knows, but the reality is that Cyrus has been unleashed. Carly says, Nikolas made a huge mistake, so if they find they have the devil at their door, that’s on them.  She’ll do anything to help Avery, but she’s not going to rescue Ava. Ava says she’s not there to ask for help. She’s there to offer it.

Sonny asks how long Eli was listening to their private conversation, and Eli says, does Sonny mean when did he walk into an open public establishment and hear the tail end of a conversation? Just now. Sonny asks where at the tail end did Eli feel there were asking him to give input? and Nina says, enough. She has to go to the clinic, get her friend, and drive him to Port Charles. While she’s gone, are they going to play nice, or does she have to call Lenny to referee? Sonny says he’s got work to do, and Eli tells her, don’t worry; they’ll behave. He hopes she hurries back. It’s not the same without her. She gets her bag, and smiles at Sonny. When she’s gone, Eli tells Sonny, Nina is right. They don’t have to be enemies. They want the same thing. Sonny says, what’s that? and Eli says, they both care about Nina, Lenny and Phyllis, and Nixon Falls, but thanks to the robbery the other night, the town he loves, the town Sonny adopted as his new home, is teetering on brink. Sonny says, and whose fault is that, Elijah?

Josslyn asks if this is about Oscar, but Trina says, it’s about Dev. She didn’t want to say anything because the loss is so fresh, but it’s been there, bubbling beneath the surface undermining Josslyn’s friendship with Cameron, and she didn’t even know it. Josslyn says, know what? and Trina says, before he died, Dev did something selfish, almost borderline creepy. He somehow found her journal, and showed it to Cameron. Josslyn asks if that’s why her journal is missing, and Trina says, yeah. She asks when Trina found out, and why she waited so long to say something. Trina says, it didn’t seem important, and happened a long time ago, but Josslyn says she thinks she should be the judge of that. Trina says she didn’t want to tarnish Dev’s memory, and Josslyn says she can see that. Trina says, and Cameron is still upset, and Josslyn says, he’s upset because Dev took her journal? Trina says, he’s upset about what was in it, and Josslyn says Trina lost her. What upset Cameron? Trina tells Josslyn that she’s already said too much. Josslyn needs to ask Cameron. The tow guy shows up, and says, Dr. Robinson? Trina thanks him for coming so quick, and tells him the car was overheating. He says, I’ll see what I can do about that, doc.

Elizabeth says, a leave of absence is the last thing she needs. She needs more work. Britt asks if it’s about money, and Elizabeth says, of course (🍷) it’s about the money, but the only helping her heal is to work. Please reconsider. Britt says, okay. They’ll table the discussion for now, but take the rest of the day off – with pay. Britt will cover Elizabeth’s shift. Elizabeth starts to protest, but Britt says, go home. Elizabeth leaves, and the custodian watches.

Jason says he gets that Cameron needs to blame someone, but that doesn’t make it true. Cameron says, what makes it true is Jason pulling the trigger and murdering his stepfather. Britt comes in, and says, what’s going on? She asks what Cameron is doing, and Cameron says, he hopes they keep Jason nice and safe. He hopes Jason has a long life in prison, and dies and old man behind bars. He leaves, and Jason says, let him go. Britt says, he’s a charmer, and tells the guard that she needs to examine Jason, closing the door. She asks what that was about, and Jason says Cameron thinks he killed Franco. Britt says, Cameron is clearly in pain. Why doesn’t Jason help him, and tell him that it was Peter?

Ava tells Carly, Cyrus put Lulu in a coma, and put Jason in prison. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had something to do with what happened to Sonny. Now he’s threatening Ava’s husband and daughter. He’s threatening their girl. As much as Ava doesn’t like admitting it, Avery is theirs. Tell her what they’re up to, and let her help. Laura says she was on the fence until she heard Cyrus’s latest threat, against a child. They have to do something, and they have to do it now and do it together. All of them.

Eli says he hopes Mike/Sonny isn’t blaming him for Nixon Falls failing economy. Brick and mortar is suffering everywhere. Even Drummond’s Pawn Shop is struggling, and it thrives when people are forced to sell. Sonny says, hard times. He’s not blaming Eli for the economy, but he’s not sure about the robbery at the firehouse. Eli says Sonny thinks he had something… and Sonny says, Eli did leave before the shooting started. Eli says, he’s responsible because he wasn’t there? Mike/Sonny was in the thick of it, and not for the first time. Like he told Lenny, crime seems to follow Mike/Sonny wherever he goes. Why is that? What is the secret to his terrible timing?

Nina asks Jax how he’s doing, and he says he’s been released. He signed the paperwork, and back to Port Charles he goes. She asks if he’s walking back. She knows he can’t fly the plane with his shoulder like that. He says, of course (🍷), he’s made other arrangements, and she says, cancel them. She has a full tank of gas, and a thermos full of Lenny’s coffee. She’s driving him back home. She’s parked out front, and ready to roll. He says he’s sorry. He appreciates it, but he’s afraid he has to decline.

Alexis asks what made Shawn decide to get a business degree, and he says he spent the first few years proving how tough he was. Survival of the fittest. She says she’s familiar with that. Unfortunately, Darwin isn’t her friend there.  He says, he figured he had to take something from this place besides battle scars, so he started a group for inmates suffering from PTSD. That’s how he got access to the library. He started reading about business, and discovered he had a knack for it. She says, so here he is, and he says, one day, he’ll put it to use, if he lives that long. She says here’s hoping they both get out of there. She had a close call. He says, just one? and she says, a special one. He says she doesn’t look banged up, and she says, somebody intervened. He says, maybe someone got a notice from someone on the outside? and she says, something like that. She’s sure Sonny looked out for him when he was in there, and Shawn says, he was, but he knew he could trust Sonny. If someone comes to her with a deal that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Jason says Britt saw how angry Cameron was. If he knew the truth… Britt says he’s right. Cameron would probably get in Peter’s face with the whole, you killed Franco and now I’m going to make you pay, and then Peter would kill him too. It’s good of Jason to take the hit. As long as Cameron keeps his anger directed at Jason, he should be safe. Jason says, until they can prove Peter did this. She smiles, and he says, what? She says, for an unfeeling killer, he can be kind of sweet. He says she shouldn’t be there, but she says it’s the only place they can have a private conversation. He says, Cyrus could be watching, and she says, that ship has sailed; Cyrus already called her out for spending too much time with him.

New custodian wheels his supplies past Jason’s room. He goes around the corner, and calls Cyrus. He says, she’s in with Jason now… He can’t hear. The door is closedOkay. He’ll let Cyrus know. He watches as Britt sits down by Jason’s bed.

Carly says she doesn’t know what part Ava can play in this, and Ava says Carly is always accusing her of being ruthless. Now’s her chance to use that ruthlessness to her advantage. Laura says, Ava is right. Carly should listen to her. The one thing Carly and Ava have in common is their love for Avery, like she and Ava have their love for Nikolas in common. Let’s be real. They all have their reasons to distrust one another, but the one thing they can all agree on is, nothing is more important than their children. This man has taken her daughter from her, and she’s not going to stand by and watch him take Nikolas too. Whatever Carly has planned, she doesn’t want to know about it, but maybe Ava can help. Carly says she thinks Laura is right. Working together is the only way to stop Cyrus. Ava asks what she can do, and Carly says, call Cyrus and invite him to dinner at Windymere tonight.

Sonny tells Eli, great question. He goes day to day, minding his own business, and trouble seems to come out of nowhere, like somebody wants bad things to happen to him, and has the force to make it happen. Maybe it’s just his paranoia talking. Does Eli know what the one good thing about Nina leaving is? Eli won’t be able to use her to pump up interest in Nixon Falls while he drives the real estate prices down. Eli says he doesn’t follow, and Sonny says, Eli’s friends keep buying real estate, and everyone is selling. Nina’s article comes out, and everybody says, Nixon Falls is a great destination; everybody’s got to go there. And when they come, Eli will sell – at a profit. Is he right? Eli says, that’s fascinating. For a guy who doesn’t know his own name, he sure has it figured out. Sonny yells that he’s got Eli figured out, Eli yells back, and they start with the no, you stuff. Phyllis comes in and asks if this is the thanks she gets for taking both of them in, and treating them like family. Is this how they disrespect her?

Nina says Jax came all this way to talk to her, and she offers to spend hours on the road with him, and he turns her down? Jax says, let’s be honest. The two of them in a car after all that’s been said… She says he’s probably right. It’s a bad idea. He says, besides, he’s already made arrangements for a car and driver; they’re waiting outside. Josslyn walks in, and asks if someone asked for a driver. Don’t just stand there. Come hug your daughter… or don’t. What happened to his arm? He’d said it was a minor injury. He says, it’s fine. The bullet barely grazed his shoulder.

Elizabeth asks Cameron what he’s doing there, and he asks why she didn’t tell him that he was there. She says he means Jason. Please don’t tell her that he tried to see Jason. That’s exactly why she didn’t tell him; she wanted to spare him. He says, Jake and Josslyn kept saying Jason didn’t do it. Part of him thought maybe there was something decent in Jason. Jake loves him, so he can’t be all bad. But he is.

Britt tells Jason that she’d better be on her way, before the guard thinks she’s giving him preferential treatment. She wouldn’t want it to get back to the boss. He says, this is her last chance; she doesn’t have to do this. She says she knows the risks to her or anyone she cares about. Thankfully, it’s a small list. She puts her shaking hand in her pocket, and says, nobody lives forever. It’s how you live that matters. She spent a lot of her life on the wrong side. It’s about time she tried the right one. Jason says, but there’s one more thing he needs her to do.

Ava says, excuse her? and Carly says, Ava heard her. Invite Cyrus to dinner. Ava asks if she should make it a family affair, and Carly says, even better. Ava asks how a dinner party is going to neutralize Cyrus, and Carly says, trust has its limits. Call the man. The clock is ticking, and they’re running out of time.

Jax tells Josslyn, yes, it was an act of courage and heroism, and Nina says, he’s not wrong. Jax says he can tell her the rest on the drive home, and Nina says, they have a long drive ahead of them. They should probably hit the road. Jax says, especially in an ankle boot. How did Josslyn get there? He thought she was supposed to go to the state tournaments, and that her ankle was healing. Josslyn says, they’ll talk on the way home, as soon as Trina gets back with the car. Nina says, Trina is here too? and Josslyn says they borrowed her mom’s car. Trina was starving, so she dropped Josslyn off and went to get something to eat. Nina says, so she went to a drive-through? but Josslyn says, she wanted to go to a super cute place they saw on their way here. It’s called the Tan-O.

Sonny apologizes to Phyllis. He meant no disrespect. Eli says, him either; no excuses. He tells Mike/Sonny, no hurt feelings? and they shake hands. Phyllis says she knows they’re putting on a show right now, but she hopes they actually take the opportunity to learn how to get along. Eli says he’s willing to bury the hatchet if Mike/Sonny is, and Sonny shrugs, saying, that’s part of the show, but if it’s what Phyllis wants, it’s what they’ll do. Eli says, absolutely, and leaves. Phyllis tells Sonny, he knows she can read his tone, and he says, it’s just the fact that Eli thinks he can snow Phyllis that’s disrespectful. Phyllis asks if that’s what Sonny is doing right now, but he says at least he’s telling the truth. That takes some honesty. She says, nice save. She still needs something from him. He says, name it, and she says if he wants Nina to be happy in Nixon Falls, help make it a place where she finds peace, and harmony, not shouting and aggression. Can he manage that? He says he can do that, and she says she believes he can do better than that. He asks if she ever gets tired of being right, and she says, never. Now get to work. He laughs, and they go into the back. Trina comes in the Tan-O.

Alexis asks if Shawn is telling her to refuse help if it comes from the inside or the outside, and he says, that depends. If it comes from someone like Cyrus Renault, that kind of favor comes at a price. She asks what she should do; quit her job the first day to get the target off her back. He says, hell no. How else could he see his favorite in-law? Just remember, she’s got a friend inside too.

Elizabeth tells Cameron, Jason’s not all bad, but Cameron asks how she can say that. She saw him looming over Franco’s body. She says she saw the way he was talking to Jake. He says Jason lied in Jake’s face. She knows Jason is guilty as well as he does.

On the phone, Ava says she was thinking about what Cyrus said about the importance of family. She’d like to invite him to dinner with her and Nikolas at Windymere. Not just the three of them. She’s invited Martin… If they’re having difficulty in communicating, she’s sure Laura will… Yes, Laura is going to be there… Oh yes, she agreed to come. Dare I say, she’s looking forward to it. It will be a true family affair.

Britt says she knows it’s a change of pace for Jason. She senses asking people for things, such as help, isn’t something he does well. What can she do for him? He says she needs to leave, and she says, and go where? He says, if things go sideways, she needs deniability, from the cops and Cyrus. She says, okay. She’ll take herself to the MetroCourt, and have a very public drink, while all hell is breaking loose there. Get that bastard of a brother of hers. And while he’s at it, try not to die. As his doctor, she would take that personally.

As Carly and Ava walk Laura to the door, Laura says, well done, and Ava thanks her. Laura says she’s going home to try and wrap her mind around what she just agreed to. It should be a night to remember. Laura leaves, and Ava tells Carly, she’ll keep Cyrus at Windymere for as long as she possibly can, and good luck with whatever Carly’s part of the plan is. Carly says, wait. She believes Ava is doing this to keep Avery safe, and believes Ava will keep her end of the bargain, but if she’s wrong, and this is a double-cross… Ava says, it’s not. For once, they’re on the same side. Cyrus won’t know what hit him.

On Monday, Cyrus wonders why they’re at Windymere, Carly tells Spinelli that she doesn’t like it at all, and the guard tells Jason, it’s time to go.

🐧 Sliding Back Out Like…

Here it is again, those days once known as the weekend, before darkness fell on the land. But I hear they might be a thing again soon, so start practicing. And no matter which day it is, stay safe, stay lighthearted, and stay not being selfish and/or borderline creepy by stealing someone’s journal.
