What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

County Kerry Ireland. We hear bagpipes play. Annie tells Felicia and Mac that she can’t believe how many of them came, all the way from America. Felicia says, that’s how much they loved her dad, and how much they wanted to be there to support her and her mom. Annie says, it means a lot that they came to honor him, and Felicia says her dad loved her. She was his pride and joy. Annie thanks Felicia and hugs her. She says, the inn is just over the hill; she hopes they can stop by. Felicia says, of course (🍷). Annie leaves, and Anna asks Felicia if they can talk, but Felicia says, now is not the time, and she and Mac leave. Anna looks at Sean’s gravestone.

Robin sets out pictures of Sean, alone and with the family, and tells Robert, when she heard the news, she wondered why she hadn’t made more time to see Sean and Tiffany in Ireland. The kids would have loved it. She wonders if they should have left Anna and Felicia at Sean’s grave. At least Mac is there. She doesn’t think she’s ever seen Felicia so angry before.

Maxie tells the baby, they’re almost there. They just have to make sure her father is removed from the equation. Trust her; it’s for the best. There’s a knock at the door, and Peter says it’s him, because his antennae go up every time Maxie moves. He says he wants to say goodbye before she goes to the spa. She says, speak of the devil.

Monica and Laura look at the programs from the memorial, and Monica says, it was a beautiful service, wasn’t it? Laura says, the priest was really eloquent. And Tiffany. That was so brave. She doesn’t know how Tiffany held it together like that. She was really proud of her. Monica says, her too. While she was watching Tiffany, she thought of herself standing there at Alan’s funeral. It’s all so surreal. You’ve lost your life’s partner, you try to get through the loss, and just be grateful for the good times. Laura says, and Sean Donely was definitely a man who appreciated a good time. They laugh, and she says, now that all the religious stuff is over, she thinks Sean would want them to celebrate his life. Monica says, hear, hear.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s just packing for her spa trip, and he asks, where’s Chloe? He thought she understood she was to be with Maxie at all times until the baby is born.

Felicia comes back with Mac to find her umbrella, and Anna asks if she can please stay so they can talk. Felicia says, trust her. Anna doesn’t want to hear what she has to say. Anna says, she does. They can’t get past this until they go through it. Mac says, they just said goodbye to Sean, and they were two of his favorite people. He would hate to see them at odds, so if it’s possible for them to talk it out, think of it as a last wish of Sean’s. Felicia says she’ll stay… for Sean. Mac says he loves them both, and leaves.

Annie comes in, and Laura asks if Annie’s mom is there. They barely got to speak at the memorial. Annie says, she and Connor took some of her father’s ashes to spread them at his local village. Robert says, Sean told him stories about that place. He said it reminded him of Annie’s namesake. Robin says, if Annie doesn’t mind her asking, how bad was the dementia? Did Sean know who she was? Annie says, yes and no. Her last good memory of him was last Christmas when he gave her this ring. She shows them, and Laura says, it’s beautiful. Annie says, his last year was pretty muddled, but there were some days he was sharp as a tack. He knew that the Christmas star was going to be visible in Ireland for the first time in 800 years. He said it was a miracle, just like her. Laura asks if the ring has any significance, and Annie says, cubanite is known to attract magnets. Robert says, that’s how Sean saw her. Laura says she heard the reception was better outside, so she’s stepping out to call Tiffany. Annie says she knows her mother would be thrilled to hear from Laura.

Outside, Laura calls Tiffany, who asks if she’s supposed to call Laura Madam Mayor now. Laura says, just Laura, and laughs. She says it’s good to hear Tiffany’s voice, and Tiffany says she feels the same way. Laura says she wants to hear about Tiffany’s life; the good, the bad, and everything in between. She doesn’t have to edit. She can say what she’s feeling. Laura says she’s there for Tiffany, and Tiffany says, as you always are, darling.

Robert tells Annie, Tiffany told him that she applied to the Bureau. How’s that going? She says she was hellbent on following in her father’s footsteps, and Robert says, was; meaning past tense? She says she completed her training, but then, nothing. They were supposed to contact her for her final test, but they never did. She assumes she didn’t make the cut. He tells her not to be too disappointed. It’s not easy to get into the Bureau. She says, the WSB contacted her after her father died, but not to offer condolences. Her dad still had sensitive WSB documents, and they’re sending a courier for them tomorrow. Robert says he knows it’s a lot to ask, but he and Anna were close to her dad, and still have clearance. Is it possible for them to have access to the files?

Tiffany tells Laura, from the moment Sean walked into her life until the second he left it, he was heartbreakingly handsome, exasperating, terribly funny, and fun. We see flashbacks as she talks. She says, he had the driest sense of humor, and a twinkle in his eye. Even that time he broke her heart. In the 35 years they were with each other, they had the most magical life together. It was the best life she could ever have dreamed of. He gave her a wonderful stepson, Connor, and an amazing, fantastic daughter. She can’t wait to see Laura tomorrow. Laura says she loves Tiffany, and Tiffany says she loves Laura too. Her dear, dear friend. Laura says, tomorrow. She looks at her room key, as someone approaches. She drops the key.   

Maxie says Chloe has to pack for their spa getaway, but he says, it doesn’t take all afternoon to pack. He’ll stay until Chloe gets back; he doesn’t want her to be alone. Bobbie arrives, and says, Maxie won’t be alone. She’ll be with Maxie. She’ll take care of Maxie, so Peter can go.   

Robin asks if anyone has seen Laura. She went outside to call Patrick, and found this. She shows them Laura’s room key.

Annie tells Robert that her dad was very protective of his files, He designed the safe himself, and it requires a retinal scan to open it. Robert says, so now that Sean is gone, no one can access it? She says she can, and Robert says, it’s an old case, and they’re dealing with something similar now. Sean’s case files may hold the key. She says she’s sorry, but she can’t give him access.

Anna thanks Felicia for talking with her. She knows she deserves Felicia’s anger. Felicia says, it’s not anger; it’s rage for what Anna did to her daughter. Maxie’s life is in tatters thanks to Anna. Anna is Maxie’s godmother, and Maxie believed in Anna because Felicia put her in a position of trust in Maxie’s life. Peter was Faison’s son, and admitted to working with him. They should have been more suspicious. She takes it back; she was suspicious. Anna convinced them to give Peter a chance, and because of her, Maxie believed in him. Maxie loved him, but the second Anna had doubts, she should have let her and Mac know. If she was uncomfortable with that, at the very least she should have told Maxie. Anna didn’t protect her goddaughter. And worse, her closest friend gave her no chance to protect her own child. She walks away.

Robert asks if anyone has seen Laura. Robin found Laura’s key outside, Mac went to look for Laura, and now he’s gone. Monica says she hasn’t seen him, and Annie says neither has she. Mac walks in, and Robert says, one down. Now they just have to find Laura. Mac says he hates to admit it, but he can’t find Laura’s room. The rooms aren’t ordered with any rhyme or reason. Robert says, Annie rented the place for them. Can she take him to Laura’s room? Annie says, no problem, and she and Robert go upstairs. Robin says she’s worried, and asks if Anna talked to Felicia. Anna says, Felicia talked; unloaded would be more accurate. She supposes she had it coming, and Robin says, Felicia has the right to her anger, but Anna also has the right to explain her side too. Try again. Be brave like she taught Robin. Anna says she loves Robin, and Robin says, back at her. Felicia comes in, and Robin makes herself scarce. Anna says, everything Felicia said is true, but she doesn’t know how to begin to apologize. Felicia says, then don’t. She doesn’t think she can forgive Anna.

Peter tells Bobbie, there’s no harm in him sticking around too. He is the baby’s father. Bobbie says she’s a licensed nurse, with decades of experience. She knows about Maxie’s high blood pressure issues, and knows that Peter’s presence exacerbates them. He can leave or be escorted out. Peter says, since Maxie is in good hands, he’ll go. He says he’ll miss her, and Maxie says she’ll see him after the babymoon. He leaves, and Maxie says, thank God Bobbie came. Bobbie says, two questions. What the heck is a babymoon, and why was it so urgent that she come over? Maxie says she needs Bobbie to deliver her baby.

Upstairs at the inn, Annie says, the door to Laura’s room is open. Robert looks in, and calls to Laura. He says, the room is a wreck, and Annie says, it looks ransacked. Robert says he’ll try calling Laura, when Robin joins them. She asks, what’s going on? and Annie says, the locks on Laura’s room look jimmied, and she’s gone. Robert says he’s getting no answer. Annie picks up a Mexican flag wrapped around a toy gun, and says, her dad worked in Mexico, under the alias El Patron. Robert says, he was an arms dealer; not one of his finest hours. Annie says, Laura is missing. Someone broke in and left this for them to find. Could all of this have something to do with her dad?

Mac tells Monica, they’re low on ice, but there’s none in the icemaker in the kitchen. She says Annie told her the caretaker keeps an extra refrigerator in the garage. He says, he’ll check it out, and leaves. Monica sits down with her drink, and someone approaches. She drops the glass, and it shatters on the floor.

Anna tells Felicia, she made terrible mistakes where Peter was concerned. She let the whole thing go on for too long. Felicia says, Maxie was literally at the altar when the horrible truth finally came out. If Anna had just warned her, she could have made arrangements to come home and be by Maxie’s side. Now her daughter is broken. Anna says, no. Her daughter is down, but certainly not out. Felicia asks if that’s what Anna is telling herself; Maxie is strong enough to overcome the disaster Anna made for her. Anna says she wanted to believe the best about Peter. She ignored the warning signs, and kept seeing what she wanted to see. By the time she realized how wrong she was, the wedding was upon them. She regrets her actions every single day. Maxie has started to forgive her – she thinks – and she’s doing everything she can to put Peter away. Please tell her that counts for something. Felicia says she hardly remembers a time when they weren’t friends. They’ve been through so much; her and Frisco, and Anna and Robert. No one was better suited as Maxie’s godparents than Anna and Sean. Anna was there for Maxie, long after Sean and Tiffany left town, and for her. We flash back to when Anna and Felicia were practically babies, and Anna asks how she can make amends. What can she do for Felicia to forgive her?

Robert says he’ll call the local police, and Annie says, they’re not close by, but he should be able to get them on the phone. She suggests Robert go to the window in the hallway; she’s gotten better reception there. Annie tells Robin, it’s no secret her dad had enemies. This could be one targeting her dad’s friends.

Maxie says she trusts Bobbie as much as her mom, and Bobbie says, Maxie is obviously in trouble. Maxie says she had a plan to deliver her baby, and keep her safe from Peter, but those plans fell through. Bobbie says, so what’s the new plan? and Maxie says she’s made arrangements to go to a spa that caters to pregnant women; that’s the babymoon part. She’s going to ditch the private nurse Peter insisted she hire; then make it look like her water broke, and she went to the hospital. Instead, she’s really going to a house in Beecher’s Corners to have the baby. Her doctor said it’s safe for her to be induced. Bobbie says, so that’s where she comes in. She’s assisted with enough births to know what to do, and her contact at GH can get supplies. She can meet Maxie at Beecher’s Corners. Maxie says, thank you so much, and Bobbie says, one question. Who will be taking care of the baby until Peter is no longer a threat? 

Robert comes back, and tells Annie that the police said they’d be there in twenty minutes. She asks what he thinks is going on, and he says, for all the good work Sean did for the WSB, he also spent time on the opposite side of the law. Sean was absolutely ruthless when he needed to be, and if the payoff was enough. He even tried to kill Robert once. We flash back to Sean and Robert fighting in an aerial tram, and Robert falling from it. Annie says she’s well aware of her dad’s past mistakes. She hates thinking his past mistakes are coming back to haunt his friends. Robin says her parents have had a lot of experience in situations like this. Whatever is going on, they’ll get her through it.

Felicia tells Anna, she didn’t want to come there. Partly because, it was so close to Maxie’s due date, but also because she knew Anna would be there. She wasn’t ready to have this conversation. In the end, she knew she owed it to Sean to be there, and to herself. Sean was always special to her; he was like a father to her, and watched over always. Anna says, her too. Maybe he still is. Felicia says she knows what he’d say if he was there. He’d tell her to forgive Anna, and he’d be right. They have too many years invested in their friendship to throw them away. They’ve always overcome the odds, and they need to do that again. They need to overcome their differences, and work through them for Maxie. They hug, and Mac sees. He says, thank God. Annie comes back, and says they have a situation on their hands. Laura is missing, and there are signs of forced entry to her room. And she found something that leads her to believe whoever did this is aware of her dad’s days as El Patron. Anna asks if anyone knows where Monica is.  

They find Monica’s chair empty, and the broken glass next to it on the floor.

Anna says, Monica isn’t in the kitchen, and Robin says, she’s not in her room either. Annie says, oh my God, and picks something up from the floor. It’s a tiny replica of Mt. Rushmore. She hands it to Anna, and Anna asks Robert if he remembers when they fought the terrorist group. Annie wonders if it’s the terrorist group targeting her father’s friends, and Felicia asks, what happened to Mac? They look in an adjoining room, and see the ice bucket and ice on the floor. Anna says, what is happening?

Felicia says she’s going to look for Mac, but Robert says she’s not going by herself; he’s going with her. They leave, and Robin tells Anna and Annie, let’s be logical. This place is old, but there are a lot of valuables, so there have to be security cameras, right? Annie says there are, and Robin asks where the footage is stored. Annie says, there’s a computer in the caretaker’s office. Robin says, lead the way, but Anna says, before they go, she’s convinced there’s some information they need in Sean’s files. Is there any way Annie could open the safe for them? Annie says, as she already explained to Robert, even though she’s not a WSB agent, the oath she took means something to her. She suggests they at least look at the security footage, and see what that tells him.

Maxie says she has a plan, but the less Bobbie knows, the better. She’s certain the baby will be loved and cared for. Bobbie says, she won’t press Maxie, but she knows the pain of giving up a child, so no judgment. She’s going to support Maxie through all of it. Maxie said she didn’t want to make Bobbie think about losing BJ (I was thinking she meant Carly, but okay), and Bobbie says she’ll always miss BJ, but she’s deeply grateful for her legacy, the heart beating in Maxie’s chest. Maxie says, BJ’s heart made her life possible, and her children lives. She’s forever grateful for that.

Felicia tells Robert, it’s kind of ironic. If Sean was here, he would know exactly what was going on. Robert says, without a doubt, and Felicia says she always had faith in Sean, from the moment they first met. Robert asks if Sean didn’t give her the nickname Princess, and she says that’s always how Sean treated her. We flash back to Felicia’s wedding to Frisco, and Sean acting as father of the bride.

Anna asks if Annie knows the password, and Annie says, it’s 791ElsieMay. Anna says she loves it; Tiffany’s real name. She enters the password, and asks if Annie is sure that’s it. Look at what’s happening to the screen. The screen goes black, and Robin says, it looks like the hard drive was wiped clean. Annie says, sometimes magnets do that, and Robin says, didn’t Annie tell them that there’s a magnetic component in her ring? Annie says she hasn’t been close enough to the computer for it to have done any damage. They hear a scream, and run to find Robert on the floor. Anna asks, what happened? and Robin asks if he’s all right. He says he’s not sure. He was walking toward Felicia, and someone hit him on the head. Robin asks, where’s Felicia? and Anna says they heard her scream. Annie says, she’s with the others, and shows Anna some pieces of jewelry. Anna says she thinks they’re meant to represent Felicia’s Aztec jewels. Annie’s father and Robert fought to the finish over them. She thought Sean had killed Robert. Robert says it was dicey for a while, but their friendship survived. Annie says, whoever took Felicia, obviously knows the story. Much like the incident at Mt. Rushmore, and her father’s days as El Patron. It’s all about her dad. They’re picking us off, one by one, and any one of us could be next.

Robin says she’ll get some ice for Robert’s head, and Anna says she’ll go with Robin. Annie should come. She shouldn’t be alone. Annie promises she’ll catch up, and when they’re gone, Annie sees a phone on the floor. She takes a look at something on it, and says, no.  

Robin asks Robert and Anna, what happens next? when Annie walks in, and asks if she can talk to Anna alone; it’s important. Anna asks Robin if it’s okay, and Robin says she’ll be fine. She can take care of her dad. Anna says, stay there, be careful, and she’ll be in the hallway. She leaves with Annie, and Robin tells Robert that she feels bad for Annie. He promises it will be over soon, and she says she hopes so. She asks if Robert thinks there’s anything in Sean’s files that could bring Peter down.

Anna asks Annie what she couldn’t say in front of Robert, and Annie says, when Laura went missing, Robert said he called the local police station, and they told him it would take 20 minutes to get there. He dropped his phone, so she checked to see what time he made the call, and there’s no record. Robert never made the call. He lied. Anna says they can’t jump to conclusions, and Annie asks, what else there is to conclude? Robert has to be in on this. He has to know where the others are. Anna says, what about the bump on his head? He didn’t do that himself. Perhaps the people who took their friends tampered with his phone. Annie asks why they would do that, and Anna says, to make them mad at each other, like Annie is now. Annie has to trust them. They all loved her father very much. They will get to the bottom of this, but they have to stick together. Annie says she needs a second to gather her thoughts, and Anna says, don’t stay too long. Be careful. She leaves, and Annie picks up Anna’s bag from a chair. She looks in it, and takes out a magnet. She says, oh my God.

Anna asks how the patient is, and Robert says, in these trying times, it’s nice to be sitting there with his ex-wife and daughter fussing over him. Annie comes back in and says, it’s both of them. Robert and Anna are involved in whoever is taking her dad’s friends. She found Robert’s phone, and he never called the police. Now she found a magnet in Anna’s bag; the one that wiped the hard drive clean. Where are the others, and what have they done with them?  

Robin says Annie is talking about her parents. How can she possibly suspect them? Annie says, Robin’s mom had a magnet in her purse that she managed to place close enough to the computer to wipe out its hard drive. Anna says she didn’t put that in her purse. She can only assume whoever’s kidnapping their friends, planted it there when she was out of the room. Robert says, whoever’s behind it wins if they all turn on each other. Anna says she’s convinced that they can find everyone if they can just access Sean’s file. Can Annie please open the safe? Annie says she can’t, but Anna says Annie has to. She can’t think of another way to find them.

Maxie tells Bobbie, she’s not allowed to fly, but she wishes she could have gone to Ireland for the memorial. Bobbie says she thought about going, but got the feeling she should stay close to home. Now that she understands Maxie’s situation, and knows where the feeling came from. It’s what Sean would want for his goddaughter. Maxie says, maybe Sean aligned the stars so Bobbie would be there; that’s what godfathers do, isn’t it? Bobbie says, that’s what Sean does.  

Annie says, it’s clear they haven’t been honest with her since they got there. She believes they made the others disappear to manipulate her, so they could do whatever they want. She cannot and she will not open the safe. Robin says, what if she’s wrong? Would she consider it to save her dad’s friends? Annie says she swore an oath to the WSB. Even if she didn’t become an agent, the oath is a lifetime commitment. If she broke it, she would dishonor her father’s memory, and she’s not going to do that. Anna says, spoken like true agent, and Annie asks, what’s going on? Why are they smiling? The rest of them come into the room, and Annie says, they’re okay. Laura says, all of them, and Annie says she doesn’t understand. Anna says, congratulations. She passed the final test. Robert says, the Bureau reached out, and asked them to help. Felicia says, it was a set-up, and Anna says she asked the caretaker to usher the others to a secret location, so she and Robert could test Annie’s loyalty to the Bureau. Mac says he left the calling cards so she’d think her father’s enemies were upon them, and Robert says, he left his phone lying around for her to find. Annie says, but Robert got hurt, and Felicia says, so sorry about that. She conked him harder than she was supposed to, but she had to make it look real. Mac is sure his brother deserved it for something or other, and Annie says, Anna’s purse. Anna says she left it for Annie to discover. Now she’s an official agent with the WSB. Annie says she doesn’t know whether to be furious or shout with joy, and Robert says, she should be as proud of herself as they know her father would be. He gives her an ID, and she says, it’s her dad’s badge number. Anna says, now it’s hers. Congratulations. They toast, and Annie hugs Robert.

Maxie says she hopes Sean is watching out for her and Louise. They need it. Bobbie says she believes he is.   

Laura tells Annie, congratulations; job well done, and Monica says, agreed. Holding the phone, Annie asks if her mom heard that. She’s officially an agent. Tiffany says, congratulations, my darling Annie. Now she knows why Tiffany had to keep her distance. She could have never gone through with this charade. All of them know she’d definitely would have had to jump right in, and then they’d have to kidnap her. Besides, she was absolutely confident Annie could handle it on her own. Always remember, she’s her daddy’s daughter, and every bit as brave and resourceful as Sean was. Annie says she’d like to think she has a little mom in her too, and Tiffany says she’s so proud of Annie. Her daddy is forever watching over her, protecting her, and loving her. If she needs to feel his love, just look up and remember that night they watched the most beautiful Christmas star together, and always cherish that memory.

Robert says, Sean made them laugh. We flashback to Sean and Tiffany getting married, and Sean discovering that Tiffany’s real name is Elsie May Crumbholts during the vows, and barely making it through them because he’s laughing so hard. Robert says, well, it’s goodbye, old friend. He’s so going to miss Sean. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. We hear bagpipes, and everyone drinks.

We see Sean’s picture, and it says – In loving memory of John Reilly.

One of the best memorial episodes ever. They made it more fun than sad, but they also went through it with us for real. You could see it in their faces at the end.

On Monday, Spinelli thinks he knows what’s going on, Brando thinks he has the chance at something amazing, Sonny asks Nina why she wants to take a risk, Cyrus would like a small favor, and Jason tells Britt that the tests are in.

🙌 Farewell, Old Friend…

They really put a lot of thought into this. No doubt, John Reilly was looking down and smiling.

I haven’t really been following RHOD this season, but there seems to be some nasty stuff going on. I’m disappointed in Kameron, although I was disappointed in Tiffany first, for making a big deal over the chicken foot. No one is insulting your culture by not wanting to eat its delicacies. The culture on my maternal side of the family eats feet too. Pickled pigs feet. And I am not going anywhere near them. I also couldn’t seem to find out what Kameron’s original sex worker comment was. Inquiring minds want to know. Frankly, I think all these women should stay off of social media.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly says she doesn’t have time for Ava, but Ava says, it’s important. It’s about Avery. She’s in trouble. Carly tells her to come in, and asks, what kind of trouble? Ava says, the kind that comes from Cyrus Renault. Ava sees Laura on the couch, and Laura says, what about Cyrus? Carly’s phone rings, and it’s Britt.

Nina goes into the Tan-O, and Sonny says, hi. He asks how her friends is, and she says, on the mend. He asks how she is, and she says, fine. She was hoping he’d fill this thermos with coffee, so she could take it with her. He says, she’s going on a trip? and she says she’s bringing her friend back home. He says, he’s leaving Nixon Falls?

Jax struggles to put on his shirt, when Phyllis knocks on the door. He tells her, come in, and she rushes over to help him. She asks, how’s the shoulder? and he says, every time it flares up, he thinks about how Nina could have gotten shot, and how close he came to losing her. Phyllis says she sees. That means he’s not giving up on her. He says, he’s not, and she says, then he didn’t hear a word she said. He tells her, he heard every word she said, and he agrees with her. He has to respect Nina’s wishes. She asks if that shouldn’t be the end of it, and he says, it’s not the end; it’s a pause, a break between rounds. Because Nina’s worth fighting for.

Trina looks under the hood of the car, and Josslyn says, the dashboard light says, check engine. Trina says she’s checking, but she doesn’t know what she’s looking for. Josslyn looks at her phone and says she’ll see if she can find something online that can help. Trina says she’s sorry, but Josslyn says, what for? It’s not her fault the car overheated. Trina says she doesn’t think they’re going to get to Josslyn’s dad.

Alexis is working in the prison library, when Maggie asks if the warden is a friend of hers. Alexis says, no; why? and Maggie says, a cushy job like this needs connections. Just asking. Alexis hands Maggie two volumes, and says she pulled these books for her. They’ll help with her parole. Maggie thanks her, and says Alexis has been very helpful. She appreciates it. She adds, Alexis needs to watch out. Getting special treatment can put a target on your back. She leaves, and Alexis hears a voice saying he thinks he’s a bit overdue. She turns around to see Shawn, who says, hello, Alexis.

Britt tells Carly that she’s calling to tell her that her appointment has been rescheduled for Thursday, like she wanted. Carly thanks her, and says she’s feeling better already. Elizabeth approaches Britt and asks if she knows who installed all the new faces on the floor, like the janitor (i.e. the guy who was in Britt’s office yesterday) over there. Britt says she doesn’t know. HR approves new hires. Elizabeth asks if any of the new hires are security, or is one guard from Pentenville enough to handle Jason?

The guard says Cameron can’t be in Jason’s room, but Jason asks if he can stay. They need to talk.

Nina says, her friend can’t find his way back to Port Charles, so she’s going to drive him. Sonny says, good. The guy took a bullet. The least he deserves is a free ride, and a thermos full of Lenny’s coffee. She says she told him that she was going to drive to Port Charles; she didn’t say she was going to stay there. Sonny asks what she’s going to do. Drive there, and drop him off at his big mansion, and drive back? She says she’s going to take care of some stuff at Crimson, then she has a few loose ends to take care of. Then she’ll get in the car and drive back to Nixon Falls.  He says, it seems like a long drive to drop someone off and come back. Is her friend worth it? 

Jax tells Phyllis that he has a lot to prove to Nina, and he’s going to start by helping her be a part of her grandson’s life. He spoke to the boy’s father, and he seems open to it. Phyllis says she’s glad he’s doing what he can to help Nina see her grandson, and he says, but? She says she’s hoping it’s not just an avenue he’s using to win Nina back. He says, he loves her, and wants her back, but he wants her happiness more. She asks if he loves Nina enough to let her go.

Trina tells Josslyn, her mom’s motor club is sending someone. If they can’t fix it, they’ll tow them. They should be there within the hour. Josslyn says she’d hate to drive all this way to see her dad, and by the time they get there, he’s gone. Trina says, maybe they should have stuck to Plan A, and gone to the volleyball championship in Syracuse. At least they’d be with their friends. Josslyn says, sorry. She’d rather be pulled over there, with a check engine light. Sitting on the sidelines would be just another reminder that her final season is over, and so are her hopes for getting off the waitlist at SCU. Trina says she knows Josslyn is disappointed, but it’s Southern Coastal’s loss, and PCU’s gain. Think about how much fun they’ll have at PCU. Josslyn guesses she’s right, and Trina says, if Cameron bails on California, and joins them, that’s even better. Josslyn says she knows Trina is trying to make her feel better, but she has no idea what to do about Cameron right now. He’s convinced Jason killed Franco, and wants her to agree, but she won’t. She knows Jason didn’t do it. How do they get past that? Trina says, maybe start be realizing what’s going on between her and Cameron isn’t entirely about Jason. It’s also about Josslyn and Cameron.   

The guard says Cameron can talk to the prisoner, but the door stays open. He’ll be right outside. Cameron tells the guard, yes, sir. He says, Jason wanted to talk, so talk. Jason says, you go first. That’s why Cameron came there. Cameron tells him, he had a lot to say when he first found out Jason was there. Now that he sees Jason, he wants to see Jake’s father, the father Jake believes in so much, but he can’t. He just sees the person who killed Franco.

Britt asks if she has to remind Elizabeth that Jason is a patient there, and will be treated as such. Elizabeth says, so that guy over there has nothing to do with Jason? and Britt says, it might surprise Elizabeth, but HR doesn’t need to clear personnel decisions with the part-time nursing staff. Elizabeth says, something strange is going on. Jason is there for a minor stab wound, something that could have been treated in the prison infirmary. Why? Britt says, maybe it looked worse than it was. Maybe they were afraid of being sued by the Quartermaines. Who knows? Clearly, Jason’s presence there is upsetting Elizabeth. Maybe it’s time they had a talk about her status at GH.   

Carly asks Ava, what’s going on with Avery? and Ava says, Cyrus came by, and claimed he was there to see Nikolas. When she said Nikolas wasn’t there, Cyrus made himself at home anyway. Carly tells her to get to the part about Avery, and Ava says Nikolas thought if he got Cyrus’s mother back, Alexis would be kept safe in Pentenville. Laura says she told him he was making a deal with the devil, and Ava says, they all did. When she suggested to Cyrus that he had no further business with Nikolas, he started talking about family; how Nikolas was his nephew, and she was his niece-in-law. Then he picked up a photo of Avery, and pointed out how she bears a striking resemblance to her father. Carly says, that son of a bitch. Now does Laura see why Carly needs her help?

Nina tells Sonny that she’ll be gone two days, three tops. He says he’s glad to hear it. Who else would risk their toes being his dance partner? He asks if he can be a little pushy, and she says, why stop now? He says, it seems like she’s going out of her way for this guy who hurt her; keeping a secret about her child from her. What decent man does that? She says, he was trying to spare her some pain, which was not his decision to make. He should have trusted her enough to believe she was strong enough to face the truth. Eli comes in, and says, trust. That’s the key to every lasting relationship. Wouldn’t Mike/Sonny agree?

Jax tells Phyllis, if Nina is happier without him, of course (🍷) he’ll let her go. In the meantime, he reserves the right to at least try. She says she can tell he would move heaven and earth for Nina, if he could, and he says he would. She says, what if Nina’s not looking for a superhero, but just someone who will simply tell her the truth? He says, unlike him. He can assure Phyllis, it was an isolated incident. She says, one he can’t take back. Nina came there looking for a different life. It’s too soon to say if she found it, but if she decides she’s found a future there in Nixon Falls, then he has to let her choose it. She wishes him a safe journey, and he says, what if Nina decides her life is in Port Charles? Phyllis says, then he needs to step back, and let Nina come to him.

Josslyn tells Trina that she and Cameron were good until Franco was killed, and Cameron convinced himself Jason did it. Trina says, what if they weren’t? What if something was wrong between them already? Josslyn asks what Trina is trying to tell her, and Trina says she shouldn’t have mentioned it. It’s not her place to say. Josslyn says, since when has that stopped her? and Trina says, never, and Josslyn deserves to know. Josslyn says, know what? and Trina says, not what, who. May he rest in peace.

Alexis says, not that she’s complaining, but how did Shawn get access into the women’s wing? He says, special privilege; to access books the men’s wing doesn’t have on the shelves. Of course (🍷) he had to wait a couple of years to prove himself before they let him in. He asks what her secret is, and she says, they needed a library assistant, and everyone has always said she comes across bookish. He says, when TJ told him that she was sentenced there, he thought TJ made a mistake. She says, just a cavalcade of great personal errors, and he says, TJ told him that she pled guilty. She says she wanted to face the consequences, and as it happens, those consequences are right here. He asks if it’s true she stabbed Dante, and she says she went on a booze-fueled rampage, and almost killed Franco, but Dante got in the way. He says, that’s a lot, and she says it is. Does he remember how he couldn’t quit working for Sonny, and it ended with him being put in there? She couldn’t quit drinking, and it landed her there. He says she remembers them, and she says he’s not easy to forget. He says he doesn’t look back and try to figure out what might have been; not too much anyway. She says, eyes forward, and he says, something like that. She says, it turns out they’re family anyway; they’re in-laws. He says, Molly and TJ. Who knew when they met all those years ago as a couple of kids, they’d go the distance? She says, lucky them, and he agrees.

Elizabeth says she barely has any status left, and Britt says, the fact is, Elizabeth lost her husband, horribly and violently, and then came back to work too quickly. The head of infectious diseases asked that she be reassigned not to care for Detective Chase. If this pattern continues, Britt’s hands will be tied, and she can’t help. She thinks a leave of absence is in order – effective immediately. 

Cameron says, Jake keeps telling him that Jason didn’t do it. Jason says he told Jake the truth, and it’s exactly what he’ll tell Cameron. Cameron wonders if Jason is going to make him ask if he did it. He already knows the answer. Jason says, based on what? Cameron wasn’t there; he doesn’t know what happened. Cameron says, the cops think he did it. They arrested Jason and sent him to prison. Jason says, to await trial. He’s innocent until proven guilty. Cameron says that works great for Jason. He thinks he’ll get away with it, and why not? Jake thinks he’s a hero, Josslyn thinks he’s so great, but Franco is his hero, and he was an art therapist, not a killer like Jason.

Ava says, the way Cyrus was admiring that photo, you could practically hear it would be a shame if anything happened to her tanging in the air. Laura says, this has got to stop, and Carly asks if that means Laura will help her. Ava asks, help with what? but Carly says it doesn’t concern Ava. Ava tells Carly, if it concerns her mother-in-law and her daughter, she’d say it concerns her. Carly says, Ava chose to back Nikolas, who put them in the position of losing the leverage they had left, and Ava tells her, give it a rest. Carly kidnapped a sick old lady. Laura says, in fairness, Florence was well-cared for and happy, but when they had her, they had a check on Cyrus. That check is gone now. Ava says, Nikolas thought he was helping his aunt, and Laura says she knows, but the reality is that Cyrus has been unleashed. Carly says, Nikolas made a huge mistake, so if they find they have the devil at their door, that’s on them.  She’ll do anything to help Avery, but she’s not going to rescue Ava. Ava says she’s not there to ask for help. She’s there to offer it.

Sonny asks how long Eli was listening to their private conversation, and Eli says, does Sonny mean when did he walk into an open public establishment and hear the tail end of a conversation? Just now. Sonny asks where at the tail end did Eli feel there were asking him to give input? and Nina says, enough. She has to go to the clinic, get her friend, and drive him to Port Charles. While she’s gone, are they going to play nice, or does she have to call Lenny to referee? Sonny says he’s got work to do, and Eli tells her, don’t worry; they’ll behave. He hopes she hurries back. It’s not the same without her. She gets her bag, and smiles at Sonny. When she’s gone, Eli tells Sonny, Nina is right. They don’t have to be enemies. They want the same thing. Sonny says, what’s that? and Eli says, they both care about Nina, Lenny and Phyllis, and Nixon Falls, but thanks to the robbery the other night, the town he loves, the town Sonny adopted as his new home, is teetering on brink. Sonny says, and whose fault is that, Elijah?

Josslyn asks if this is about Oscar, but Trina says, it’s about Dev. She didn’t want to say anything because the loss is so fresh, but it’s been there, bubbling beneath the surface undermining Josslyn’s friendship with Cameron, and she didn’t even know it. Josslyn says, know what? and Trina says, before he died, Dev did something selfish, almost borderline creepy. He somehow found her journal, and showed it to Cameron. Josslyn asks if that’s why her journal is missing, and Trina says, yeah. She asks when Trina found out, and why she waited so long to say something. Trina says, it didn’t seem important, and happened a long time ago, but Josslyn says she thinks she should be the judge of that. Trina says she didn’t want to tarnish Dev’s memory, and Josslyn says she can see that. Trina says, and Cameron is still upset, and Josslyn says, he’s upset because Dev took her journal? Trina says, he’s upset about what was in it, and Josslyn says Trina lost her. What upset Cameron? Trina tells Josslyn that she’s already said too much. Josslyn needs to ask Cameron. The tow guy shows up, and says, Dr. Robinson? Trina thanks him for coming so quick, and tells him the car was overheating. He says, I’ll see what I can do about that, doc.  

Elizabeth says, a leave of absence is the last thing she needs. She needs more work. Britt asks if it’s about money, and Elizabeth says, of course (🍷) it’s about the money, but the only helping her heal is to work. Please reconsider. Britt says, okay. They’ll table the discussion for now, but take the rest of the day off – with pay. Britt will cover Elizabeth’s shift. Elizabeth starts to protest, but Britt says, go home. Elizabeth leaves, and the custodian watches.

Jason says he gets that Cameron needs to blame someone, but that doesn’t make it true. Cameron says, what makes it true is Jason pulling the trigger and murdering his stepfather. Britt comes in, and says, what’s going on? She asks what Cameron is doing, and Cameron says, he hopes they keep Jason nice and safe. He hopes Jason has a long life in prison, and dies and old man behind bars. He leaves, and Jason says, let him go. Britt says, he’s a charmer, and tells the guard that she needs to examine Jason, closing the door. She asks what that was about, and Jason says Cameron thinks he killed Franco. Britt says, Cameron is clearly in pain. Why doesn’t Jason help him, and tell him that it was Peter?

Ava tells Carly, Cyrus put Lulu in a coma, and put Jason in prison. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had something to do with what happened to Sonny. Now he’s threatening Ava’s husband and daughter. He’s threatening their girl. As much as Ava doesn’t like admitting it, Avery is theirs. Tell her what they’re up to, and let her help. Laura says she was on the fence until she heard Cyrus’s latest threat, against a child. They have to do something, and they have to do it now and do it together. All of them.

Eli says he hopes Mike/Sonny isn’t blaming him for Nixon Falls failing economy. Brick and mortar is suffering everywhere. Even Drummond’s Pawn Shop is struggling, and it thrives when people are forced to sell. Sonny says, hard times. He’s not blaming Eli for the economy, but he’s not sure about the robbery at the firehouse. Eli says Sonny thinks he had something… and Sonny says, Eli did leave before the shooting started. Eli says, he’s responsible because he wasn’t there? Mike/Sonny was in the thick of it, and not for the first time. Like he told Lenny, crime seems to follow Mike/Sonny wherever he goes. Why is that? What is the secret to his terrible timing?

Nina asks Jax how he’s doing, and he says he’s been released. He signed the paperwork, and back to Port Charles he goes. She asks if he’s walking back. She knows he can’t fly the plane with his shoulder like that. He says, of course (🍷), he’s made other arrangements, and she says, cancel them. She has a full tank of gas, and a thermos full of Lenny’s coffee. She’s driving him back home. She’s parked out front, and ready to roll. He says he’s sorry. He appreciates it, but he’s afraid he has to decline.

Alexis asks what made Shawn decide to get a business degree, and he says he spent the first few years proving how tough he was. Survival of the fittest. She says she’s familiar with that. Unfortunately, Darwin isn’t her friend there.  He says, he figured he had to take something from this place besides battle scars, so he started a group for inmates suffering from PTSD. That’s how he got access to the library. He started reading about business, and discovered he had a knack for it. She says, so here he is, and he says, one day, he’ll put it to use, if he lives that long. She says here’s hoping they both get out of there. She had a close call. He says, just one? and she says, a special one. He says she doesn’t look banged up, and she says, somebody intervened. He says, maybe someone got a notice from someone on the outside? and she says, something like that. She’s sure Sonny looked out for him when he was in there, and Shawn says, he was, but he knew he could trust Sonny. If someone comes to her with a deal that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Jason says Britt saw how angry Cameron was. If he knew the truth… Britt says he’s right. Cameron would probably get in Peter’s face with the whole, you killed Franco and now I’m going to make you pay, and then Peter would kill him too. It’s good of Jason to take the hit. As long as Cameron keeps his anger directed at Jason, he should be safe. Jason says, until they can prove Peter did this. She smiles, and he says, what? She says, for an unfeeling killer, he can be kind of sweet. He says she shouldn’t be there, but she says it’s the only place they can have a private conversation. He says, Cyrus could be watching, and she says, that ship has sailed; Cyrus already called her out for spending too much time with him.

New custodian wheels his supplies past Jason’s room. He goes around the corner, and calls Cyrus. He says, she’s in with Jason now… He can’t hear. The door is closed… Okay. He’ll let Cyrus know. He watches as Britt sits down by Jason’s bed.

Carly says she doesn’t know what part Ava can play in this, and Ava says Carly is always accusing her of being ruthless. Now’s her chance to use that ruthlessness to her advantage. Laura says, Ava is right. Carly should listen to her. The one thing Carly and Ava have in common is their love for Avery, like she and Ava have their love for Nikolas in common. Let’s be real. They all have their reasons to distrust one another, but the one thing they can all agree on is, nothing is more important than their children. This man has taken her daughter from her, and she’s not going to stand by and watch him take Nikolas too. Whatever Carly has planned, she doesn’t want to know about it, but maybe Ava can help. Carly says she thinks Laura is right. Working together is the only way to stop Cyrus. Ava asks what she can do, and Carly says, call Cyrus and invite him to dinner at Windymere tonight.   

Sonny tells Eli, great question. He goes day to day, minding his own business, and trouble seems to come out of nowhere, like somebody wants bad things to happen to him, and has the force to make it happen. Maybe it’s just his paranoia talking. Does Eli know what the one good thing about Nina leaving is? Eli won’t be able to use her to pump up interest in Nixon Falls while he drives the real estate prices down. Eli says he doesn’t follow, and Sonny says, Eli’s friends keep buying real estate, and everyone is selling. Nina’s article comes out, and everybody says, Nixon Falls is a great destination; everybody’s got to go there. And when they come, Eli will sell – at a profit. Is he right? Eli says, that’s fascinating. For a guy who doesn’t know his own name, he sure has it figured out. Sonny yells that he’s got Eli figured out, Eli yells back, and they start with the no, you stuff. Phyllis comes in and asks if this is the thanks she gets for taking both of them in, and treating them like family. Is this how they disrespect her?  

Nina says Jax came all this way to talk to her, and she offers to spend hours on the road with him, and he turns her down? Jax says, let’s be honest. The two of them in a car after all that’s been said… She says he’s probably right. It’s a bad idea. He says, besides, he’s already made arrangements for a car and driver; they’re waiting outside. Josslyn walks in, and asks if someone asked for a driver. Don’t just stand there. Come hug your daughter… or don’t. What happened to his arm? He’d said it was a minor injury. He says, it’s fine. The bullet barely grazed his shoulder.

Elizabeth asks Cameron what he’s doing there, and he asks why she didn’t tell him that he was there. She says he means Jason. Please don’t tell her that he tried to see Jason. That’s exactly why she didn’t tell him; she wanted to spare him. He says, Jake and Josslyn kept saying Jason didn’t do it. Part of him thought maybe there was something decent in Jason. Jake loves him, so he can’t be all bad. But he is.

Britt tells Jason that she’d better be on her way, before the guard thinks she’s giving him preferential treatment. She wouldn’t want it to get back to the boss. He says, this is her last chance; she doesn’t have to do this. She says she knows the risks to her or anyone she cares about. Thankfully, it’s a small list. She puts her shaking hand in her pocket, and says, nobody lives forever. It’s how you live that matters. She spent a lot of her life on the wrong side. It’s about time she tried the right one. Jason says, but there’s one more thing he needs her to do.

Ava says, excuse her? and Carly says, Ava heard her. Invite Cyrus to dinner. Ava asks if she should make it a family affair, and Carly says, even better. Ava asks how a dinner party is going to neutralize Cyrus, and Carly says, trust has its limits. Call the man. The clock is ticking, and they’re running out of time.

Jax tells Josslyn, yes, it was an act of courage and heroism, and Nina says, he’s not wrong. Jax says he can tell her the rest on the drive home, and Nina says, they have a long drive ahead of them. They should probably hit the road. Jax says, especially in an ankle boot. How did Josslyn get there? He thought she was supposed to go to the state tournaments, and that her ankle was healing. Josslyn says, they’ll talk on the way home, as soon as Trina gets back with the car. Nina says, Trina is here too? and Josslyn says they borrowed her mom’s car. Trina was starving, so she dropped Josslyn off and went to get something to eat. Nina says, so she went to a drive-through? but Josslyn says, she wanted to go to a super cute place they saw on their way here. It’s called the Tan-O.   

Sonny apologizes to Phyllis. He meant no disrespect. Eli says, him either; no excuses. He tells Mike/Sonny, no hurt feelings? and they shake hands. Phyllis says she knows they’re putting on a show right now, but she hopes they actually take the opportunity to learn how to get along. Eli says he’s willing to bury the hatchet if Mike/Sonny is, and Sonny shrugs, saying, that’s part of the show, but if it’s what Phyllis wants, it’s what they’ll do. Eli says, absolutely, and leaves. Phyllis tells Sonny, he knows she can read his tone, and he says, it’s just the fact that Eli thinks he can snow Phyllis that’s disrespectful. Phyllis asks if that’s what Sonny is doing right now, but he says at least he’s telling the truth. That takes some honesty. She says, nice save. She still needs something from him. He says, name it, and she says if he wants Nina to be happy in Nixon Falls, help make it a place where she finds peace, and harmony, not shouting and aggression. Can he manage that? He says he can do that, and she says she believes he can do better than that. He asks if she ever gets tired of being right, and she says, never. Now get to work. He laughs, and they go into the back. Trina comes in the Tan-O.    

Alexis asks if Shawn is telling her to refuse help if it comes from the inside or the outside, and he says, that depends. If it comes from someone like Cyrus Renault, that kind of favor comes at a price. She asks what she should do; quit her job the first day to get the target off her back. He says, hell no. Elizabeth tells Cameron, Jason’s not all bad, but Cameron asks how she can say that. She saw him looming over Franco’s body. She says she saw the way he was talking to Jake. He says Jason lied in Jake’s face. She knows Jason is guilty as well as he does.

On the phone, Ava says she was thinking about what Cyrus said about the importance of family. She’d like to invite him to dinner with her and Nikolas at Windymere. Not just the three of them. She’s invited Martin… If they’re having difficulty in communicating, she’s sure Laura will… Yes, Laura is going to be there… Oh yes, she agreed to come. Dare I say, she’s looking forward to it. It will be a true family affair.

Britt says she knows it’s a change of pace for Jason. She senses asking people for things, such as help, isn’t something he does well. What can she do for him? He says she needs to leave, and she says, and go where? He says, if things go sideways, she needs deniability, from the cops and Cyrus. She says, okay. She’ll take herself to the MetroCourt, and have a very public drink, while all hell is breaking loose there. Get that bastard of a brother of hers. And while he’s at it, try not to die. As his doctor, she would take that personally.

As Carly and Ava walk Laura to the door, Laura says, well done, and Ava thanks her. Laura says she’s going home to try and wrap her mind around what she just agreed to. It should be a night to remember. Laura leaves, and Ava tells Carly, she’ll keep Cyrus at Windymere for as long as she possibly can, and good luck with whatever Carly’s part of the plan is. Carly says, wait. She believes Ava is doing this to keep Avery safe, and believes Ava will keep her end of the bargain, but if she’s wrong, and this is a double-cross… Ava says, it’s not. For once, they’re on the same side. Cyrus won’t know what hit him.

On Monday, Cyrus wonders why they’re at Windymere, Carly tells Spinelli that she doesn’t like it at all, and the guard tells Jason, it’s time to go.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sasha brings take-out coffee into the garage, and Brando asks if she got one for him. She says she got him a latte, and he thanks her. She says she thinks she left her phone there, and he says she did. He found it in the car after she left, and he put it in the back. She says she wants to tell him something, and he says, that it shouldn’t have happened, but she says she was about to say she’s glad it did, and Brando smiles.

Sonny asks if Nina is okay, and Nina says, yeah, wrong number. He says he made coffee, and she says she’s desperate. He says she’s not desperate. All she has to do is take her time, and it’s up to her to pick and choose where she goes from here. She asks if he’s talking about Eli, and he says she barely knows Eli. She says, Phyllis and Lenny are fond of him, and Sonny says, but Eli is a stranger to Nina. As a matter-of-fact, so is he.   

Valentin asks Anna if she has any news about Chase, and she says Finn is keeping her up to date. They haven’t made a diagnosis that it’s poison yet, but she and Valentin can’t tell them. Peter will take off with the antidote. He says, so they honor the agreement, and wait while Peter reconciles with Maxie, and she says, they have to fix this.  Jason is in prison, thanks to Cyrus, and Peter is going to take off. Valentin says, not if he can do anything about it. Carly meets them at the door of her house, saying, the guards let her know they were there. She invites them in, and says, no more waiting around. They have to act now.

At Perdino’s, Laura leaves a phone message for Nikolas, saying, she doesn’t know what’s worse. Him being in league with Cyrus, or him going radio silent. Please call her back. Martin comes in, and says he couldn’t help overhearing her leave a message for her son. She asks why it’s his business, and he says he was hoping Nikolas kept his promise. Laura asks what her son promised him. More to the point, what did Martin offer Nikolas in return?

On the phone, Nikolas says he’s narrowed the search to a bakery in Stowe, Vermont where he thinks Martin ordered a hummingbird cake for his mother’s birthday. He knows it’s a long shot, but he needs to know if Martin, or anyone else, ordered a hummingbird cake from the bakery, and he needs to know any corresponding address. Call him as soon as they have some names. Ava asks if he’s really doing this; finding Cyrus’s mother, despite the fact that she and Laura advised against it. He says, if bringing Florence back to her son means keeping Alexis safe, then she’s right, he’s doing this.   

Alexis’s cellmate Maggie brings her to the gym/yard area, and says, they have an hour of the yard, and then do the work they’re assigned. You don’t learn to survive by lessons some advisor gives you. If you’re tough, you survive. If not… A large, disappointingly stereotypical inmate walks over to Alexis, who asks if she can help her. The inmate pushes her.

Maggie says, this one is new, Elda. Don’t worry. She’ll keep her in line. Elda walks away, and Alexis asks Maggie what the hell Elda’s problem is. Maggie tells her, steer clear. If Elda takes a dislike to her, compared to what she can do, incarceration will seem like a day at the spa. Alexis asks if the guard just watches, and Maggie says Alexis has a lot to learn. Alexis says that’s what Sam warned her about, and Maggie asks who Sam is; Alexis’s husband? Alexis says, her daughter. She said being locked up would seem like a foreign land, with its own rules and languages. She’ll have to be more careful if she’s going to survive another day, let alone three years.  

Ava tells Nikolas, once Cyrus’s mother is back, Cyrus will have no incentive to help Alexis. Not to mention he’ll have free reign to get even with Jason and Carly for taking Florence in the first place. Nikolas says, all that power and money won’t give Cyrus the one thing he’ll want after he gets his mother back. Ava says, Cyrus has money. Sonny is gone, and Jason is in prison, so Sonny’s territory is ripe for a takeover. What more could Cyrus possibly want? He asks what means more to them than money and power, and she says, love and family. Cyrus thinks Nikolas can convince Laura to accept him as part of the family. He says, it worked with Martin. He offered to repair Martin’s relationship with Laura, and Martin offered him a clue that might lead him to Florence. Ava says, the bakery where he got Florence the cake, and Nikolas says, Cyrus will come back to him sooner or later, and ask him to build a bridge to his sister. Ava says Nikolas is actually kind of sexy when he has things figured out, and they kiss.

Martin tells Laura, he gave Nikolas nothing; he has nothing to give. Laura says Nikolas can manipulate with the best of them. Is Martin sure he didn’t tell Nikolas where to find Florence? He says, of course (🍷) not. He has no idea where she is. She asks what Nikolas promised, and he says, to intercede with her on his behalf. Nikolas volunteered to mend fences between them. Martin knows how angry Laura is with him for his contribution to Julian’s escape, but please believe him, he had no idea Julian was responsible for what happened at The Floating Rib. Laura’s daughter is his niece, and now Lulu… He swears on his soul, if he knew about the death and destruction Julian created, he would never have helped. She says, despite the blackmail? and he says, for all the good it did him? Even though he gave into Julian’s blackmail, in a few short weeks, everyone knew Cyrus was his brother. And now he and Laura are on the opposite side of something, and any progress they’ve made as brother and sister seems to have vanished, which is exactly what Cyrus wanted. Cyrus is afraid he and Laura will end up on the same side, allied against him. When Cyrus walked in on Laura giving Martin a birthday cake, Cyrus’s instinct kicked in, and his bag of tricks. He exaggerated Martin’s guilt in the hope of obscuring his own. She tells him, don’t worry. No matter how disappointed she is in Martin, she’ll never forget that Cyrus gave the orders to plant the bomb in The Floating Rib. Cyrus approaches their table, and says Laura never ceases to amaze him. He didn’t think she and Martin would be on speaking terms after what she learned about him. Maybe there’s hope for him and Laura.

Brando says he didn’t know if he’d see Sasha again… in that way. Last night was all about… She says she’d just ended the relationship with Michael, and he thought she was on the rebound. He asks if she can blame him, and she says, not really. She and Michael were pretty serious, until they weren’t, but even when she still hoped she and Michael would pick up where they left off, Brando was always there. He says, stalking her? and she says she never minded. He says he figured that out when she didn’t call the cops, and she says, as much as she tried to ignore it, something was between them. He says, internal combustion, and she says he’s comparing her to a car; how romantic. Can she at least let her have an eight-cylinder engine with turbo charging? He says he’s been meaning to ask her how she knows so much about cars. She asks, why wouldn’t she? Did he think the face of Deception has no life beyond the glamorous shoots? He says he was hoping to hear more about it.

Nina tells Sonny that Eli doesn’t trust him either, and Sonny says, tell him something he doesn’t already know. She says, for the record, she’s not in the market for a new relationship, and he says, if she were… She says the perfect man has to make her fall in love with him, and then completely break her heart. He says she’s too hard on herself. She doesn’t deliberately choose these guys; she’s much better than they are. She says, is she? and he says didn’t she come there to get away from her bad choices. She’s way too smart not to know she’s in an unhealthy relationship is like. She says, is she? the thing is, it doesn’t stop her from missing the person she ran away from. Maybe she should just write the article and move on. He says, maybe, but when you move on, you take yourself with you. She says he doesn’t know who he is, does he? and he says, look what happened to him, and she says, what if he could get himself back?

Carly asks if Valentin and Anna have made any progress with Gladys, and Valentin says, Gladys is a shallow, selfish, greedy beggar with a huge interest in self-preservation, like Carly said. Anna says she’s sure Cyrus has put the fear of God in Gladys, and she knows if she changes her story, Cyrus will kill her. Valentin says, not to mention what Peter is capable of doing to her, and Carly asks what Peter has done now. Anna says,  nothing, but he insists on being in Maxie’s life, and had to be escorted out of the hospital. Carly is sure it’s a nightmare for Maxie, but thinks Peter is less of threat to Maxie than Cyrus is to all of them. The only thing that’s stopping him from burning Port Charles down is that she has Florence – for now. Anna asks what she means, and Carly says Cyrus tried to offer her a deal; Florence, in exchange for Gladys changing her story so Jason could go free. He didn’t seem disappointed or angry when she turned him down. It sounded like he had another deal in place.

Sonny asks what makes Nina think he can find out who he is? She says, no one is completely anonymous. If he really wants to uncover his past, he can reach out on social media. He says he’s not sure he wants to find out what happened to him before Nixon Falls, and she asks, why not? He says he likes it there. He likes the people and the pace. He likes the fact that the highlight of the season is a dance at the firehouse. Nina says, it sounds like a lot more fun than the Met Gala, and he asks, what’s that? She says, a ball where people dress up to impress each other and raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She admits it’s a worthy cause, and he says, it’s her world. She says she could show him pictures of her and her friends dressed up on the red carpet outside the museum, everyone smiling, but no one is actually happy. He says she seems happy there, and she says, he does too. He says, why go somewhere else to find happiness? I expect them to break out in a song from Oklahoma! any second.

Brando says, so Sasha had a summer job in high school? She says, working at a garage. It was mostly in the office, but she occasionally helped with repairs. She had spending money, and discovered she liked the work. He says he pictured her playing with Disney princess dolls, and she says she did that too, but she’s not a stereotype any more than he is. He’s Cyrus’s driver-slash-bodyguard; the one Cyrus keeps around to clean up his messes, but it’s just a front. He says, don’t go calling The Invader, and she tells him, don’t worry. She likes him better alive than dead. She admires his bravery; walking a tightrope to protect Carly and her family. He says he’s more like an idiot, and she says, you don’t win medals for being an idiot. She has to get going. She has a photo shoot, and grease on her face is not a good look for the face of Deception. He says he thinks she looks great, but he’s not being very objective. He wipes her face with a clean rag, and they almost kiss, but he says he almost forgot; her phone. He leaves to get it, and she smiles.   

Cyrus sits at the table, and says, the three of them breaking bread. He asks Laura if this isn’t better than their petty squabbles. Maybe one day, his mother will join them. Laura says she thought Florence was happy where she is, and Martin says, she is. Wherever she is, mama makes the best of things. Cyrus says, she’ll be happier back in the loving arms of her family, and Laura asks what he’s planning. Cyrus says he gives her his word that he’s not planning anything. Mother’s fate, as she well knows, is out of his hands.

Ava tells Nikolas, don’t distract her, and he says, he’s distracting her? She says she’s concerned about his involvement with Cyrus. Why is he certain he can find Florence when Cyrus’s own people couldn’t? He says the man he was talking to is Colonel Jackson. He served in various hot spots around the globe. He’s retired from the military, and opened his own company. She says, a mercenary? and he says, security consultant. His people can be anywhere at a moment’s notice. They’re infiltrating the bakery to find out if hummingbird cakes or any other Southern desserts have been delivered to a nearby address. Ava asks what it’s costing Nikolas, but he says, it doesn’t matter. If he finds Florence, Alexis is safe. She says, one does not guarantee the other, and he says he can’t leave his aunt in Pentenville with no resources. He has to make sure she’s protected. She says she loves him for wanting to protect his aunt, but doesn’t think this is the way to do it. Think about Cyrus, look at his history. Think of all the people he’s betrayed, including her brother. If Nikolas thinks he can trust Cyrus to keep his word, he’s making a big mistake.

Carly tells Anna and Valentin, if Cyrus gets his mother back, they lose leverage. Gladys is going to keep following Cyrus’s orders, and lie to the cops. Peter stays free, and Jason stays in prison, at least until the trial. Anna says, that would be the case, and Carly says, then they have to put more pressure on Gladys. Valentin says he’s not kidnapping Gladys, and holding her in Anna’s basement, and Carly says, why not? It’s a start. Anna says, a coerced confession won’t hold up in court, and Carly says, Anna is worried about what’s legal now, after she covered for Peter for months? After Jason warned Anna, and told her to come forward? What is going on here? Where is the help Anna promised her? Is she going to get Jason out of prison? Anna says she understands Carly’s frustration, but Carly has to trust her. If Carly goes after Gladys, she’ll make Jason’s situation worse. Carly asks what Anna is telling her. Better luck next time? Jason is just going to rot in prison? Valentin tells her, that’s not what they said, but Carly says, that’s what it sounds like. They said they wanted to stop Peter from killing someone else, to stop insinuating himself into Maxie’s life. So what are they going to do about it? Anna says, nothing. And neither is Carly.   

Alexis wonders what she did to get on Elda’s bad side; she just got here. Maggie says, Elda has no other side; it’s all bad. Did Alexis defend her and lose? Alexis says she’s never seen Elda before, and Maggie says maybe Elda was her mortal enemy in another life. She has to go back inside and prepare for her parole hearing. The tips Alexis gave her are really going to help. Alexis says she was told not to trust anyone there, but… Maggie says she gets it. It’s tougher without someone to talk to. She thought a smart woman like Alexis could have fancy-talked her way out of Pentenville. Alexis says she could have plead guilty and gone to trial, and Maggie asks why she didn’t. Alexis says it’s a long story, and Maggie says she’s got the time. She sits on a bench, and Alexis says, come to think of it, she does too, and sits next to her.   

Ava says all Nikolas has done is give Cyrus an opening to threaten Alexis any time he wants something. It’s what Cyrus did to her brother. He threatened Julian’s family to get him to cooperate. It’s just a manipulation. Nikolas says, he’s not Julian. Nobody manipulates him. He needs to know they’re in this together. If one of them feels threatened, they have to set aside their doubts and questions, and come together. Isn’t that the kind of marriage they’ve created, despite the odds? She says he doesn’t play fair, and he says he’s not playing. He needs to know she’s with him. Today, tomorrow, always. She asks if he needs proof, and he says, always. They kiss, and he picks her up in his arms.

Gladys comes to the garage, and sees the tools around the car. She asks if Brando doesn’t have the morning off. Why is it always all work and no play with him? Sasha’s head pops up, and she says, it’s nice to see Gladys again. Gladys asks what Sasha is doing there, and I’m hoping they weren’t doing it under the car.

Laura says Cyrus might try to make his fingerprints invisible, but it’s clear to her that he’s pressuring someone else to find his mother. Someone who loves his Aunt Alexis very much, and wants her to be protected while she’s in prison. Martin says, Nikolas was concerned about his Aunt Alexis when they last spoke, and Laura says she thought Martin didn’t tell Nikolas anything. Martin says he didn’t. For the last time, there was nothing to tell. He doesn’t even know his mother’s current location. Cyrus says, don’t blame, Marty. They rarely agree, but they both want the best for their mother. Laura laughs, and says she doesn’t think so. Martin loves his mother for who she is, but Cyrus needs his mother to validate his life. She didn’t approve when Jason took Florence, but it was the only way to contain Cyrus’s violence and greed, and it worked. Since Jason’s had Florence, there have been no shootouts. Cyrus wants his mother back because he doesn’t want Jason to have that leverage over him. She say she’ll be damned if she’ll let Cyrus use her son to make it happen, and walks out.

Carly says, they expect her to do nothing. Why? What aren’t they telling her? Anna says, Peter took steps to protect himself. It’s probably his first step in his strategy for leaving Port Charles. Carly asks what the hell Peter has done, and Valentin says they can’t tell her that, but they’re working hard to fix the situation. Anna says, if Peter even gets a hint they’re working against him, someone innocent will die. Carly asks if this innocent person has a name, and Anna says Carly isn’t the only one who wants Jason free, or Peter to be brought to justice. If she goes for Gladys, she’s going to escalate an already dangerous situation. So can she take a deep breath, and let them handle Peter? Carly says she was only working with Anna because Jason wanted her to, but Jason is in prison, so she has to follow her instincts. If they can’t tell her why she should give them time, she can’t promise them she will. Anna says, then Peter won’t be the only one with blood on his hands. He can live with it. Can Carly?   

Sonny tells Nina, he’ll throw in a danish if she tells him what’s on her mind. She says, what if she told him that she did something selfish that might hurt a lot of people? He says he wouldn’t believe her. He’s seen her with Lenny and Phyllis, and she’s not a selfish person. She says, she is, but the weird part is, she believes she’s doing the right thing, a good thing; not just for herself, but for someone who will never know. Sonny asks if it’s someone he knows, and she says, it’s someone who deserves to be happy. Someone who deserves a fresh start. She’s making sure they have both of them. He says, that’s a good thing, not a selfish thing. She says, that’s what she tells herself, and sometimes she even believes it.

Sasha says she was helping Brando fix the carburetor, and Gladys says Sasha would risk her manicure to help out at the shop? Brando comes out from the office, and says he charged Sasha’s phone; it was losing juice. He sees Gladys, and asks what she’s doing there. She says she just came to check on her boy. It sounds like he had an interesting evening.

Martin says, he was hoping he and Laura could find a way past what happened on his birthday, but once again, like the Angel of Death, it takes Cyrus one minute to ruin everything. Cyrus says, relax, Marty. As soon as mother comes back, Laura will get over her anger. Martin says, do him a favor. Let’s review, shall we? In one way or another Cyrus is responsible for putting Laura’s daughter in a coma. Now Cyrus is trying to coopt her son. In what universe would Laura look at Cyrus with anything other than loathing?

Walking into Perdino’s, Valentin says, how much does Anna want to bet that Carly doesn’t wait around long enough for them to take down Peter? She says she doesn’t want to take that risk, and they go inside. They see Cyrus and Martin, and Valentin asks if Anna wants to go to the MetroCourt. She says, no. She wants to say hello. She goes over to their table, and Valentin follows. She says Valentin has been telling her how helpful Martin has been in establishing parental rights for Brook’s baby. She doesn’t think she and Cyrus have been formally introduced, and says she’s Anna Devane, Peter’s aunt. Cyrus smiles.   

Ava and Nikolas bask in the afterglow, and Nikolas says he needs Ava to believe that he’ll protect the ones he loves; his mother, Alexis, Spencer, especially her. Ava says, her whole life she had to protect herself, and he says she doesn’t have to anymore. He’s here for her, like she’s here for him. If he was in danger, wouldn’t she do everything in her power to save him? She says, in a heartbeat, and they get busy again.

On the phone, Carly tells Bobbie to put the guards on extra alert, and do it without scaring Florence… All right… She loves Bobbie too. The doorbell rings, and she says she has to go. Call her if there are any signs of trouble. She opens the door to Laura, who asks if something happened. There are more guards than usual. Carly says she’s just taking extra care. What did Laura want to see her about? Laura asks what it would take for Carly to surrender Florence, before someone gets hurt.

Cyrus says he’s pleased to finally make Anna’s acquaintance; her reputation precedes her. She tells him, don’t believe everything you hear, Mr. Renault. He tells her to call him Cyrus, if he may call her Anna, and she says, of course (🍷). Cyrus says he hears congratulations are in order. Valentin is going to be a new father again. Valentin says, how about that? Cyrus’s brother takes care of a lot of his interests, and will tell Cyrus that family means a lot to him. Cyrus says, as it does to all of them. Anna tells Valentin that she’s suddenly famished, and they go to their table. Martin asks, what the hell was that? All the pointed looks going back and forth, the least Cyrus could do for his brother is shout duck. Cyrus says, just marking their territory.

Valentin asks if Anna would like to explain that interaction, and she says, sometimes you just have to look your enemy in the eye to figure out your next move. He asks if she has, and she says, most definitely.

Carly asks if Laura has noticed that Port Charles has been fairly calm since Florence started her extended stay with friends, but Laura says, it’s not going to stay that way. Carly knows that already. Carly asks why Laura is saying that, and Laura says she was just talking to her brothers. Since they’re all family now, they feel free to share with her whatever is on their dysfunctional little minds. Carly says, which is? and Laura says, Martin was way too eager to make her believe he’d kept Florence’s location a secret, and Cyrus was too self-assured, even for him. Carly asks if he knows where Florence is, and Laura says she doesn’t think so – not yet – but she thinks Nikolas does.

On the phone, Nikolas asks if they found the find bakery… Excellent. Did they have subsequent orders for Southern desserts?… Bobbie Spencer? She’s the mother of one of the parties involved in Florence’s kidnapping. Does he have an address?… Terrific work, Colonel, thank you. When they arrive at the address, he wants them to establish a parameter, reconnoiter the area, but don’t make a move until he gets there. Understood?  Ava asks if Nikolas found her, and he says he’ll know soon enough. Ava asks why not order Colonel Jackson to take Florence the moment he finds her. Is Nikolas having second thoughts? He asks if he hasn’t convinced her to change her mind, to understand why he’s doing this, and she says, if she tells him that he hasn’t, will he call it off? He says, no, but he’d rather do this with her than without her.

An inmate suddenly plops between Alexis and Maggie, and they get up. Alexis says, it was the combination of a lot of booze and a lot of bad decisions that got her into this lovely location. Maggie says, and a few bad men? and Alexis says, one or two contributed. In the end, it was on her. Maggie says Alexis obviously knows how the parole board thinks. They want to hear inmates take responsibility for their actions, basically saying what they did was wrong, but they learned their lesson. Alexis says, it will be a while before she sees a parole board. What’s crazy is, she chose to plead guilty because she wanted to be accountable for the things she’d done. Not just for other people, but for herself. As naïve and insane as it sounds, after three years, she wants to walk out of this place a better woman. Elda approaches them, and tells Maggie, take a hike. Alexis says, it’s okay. Three’s a crowd. Maggie leaves, and the guard leaves with her. Alexis and Elda face each other.

Nina tells Sonny, thanks, but she’s going to the library to research the early days of Nixon Falls for the article. He says, since they’re both going to the firehouse dance, they should go together. Nina says she’d love to go with him, but Eli already asked her, and she said she’d go with him. He says he’s not surprised Eli beat him to it, and she says she’ll save him a dance. He says there are things she doesn’t know about Eli, and she says there are things Mike/Sonny doesn’t know about himself, and there are things he doesn’t know about her. He says, true, and she asks if he’s trying to tell her something. He says, will she save that dance? and she promises she will.  

Sasha thanks Brando for finding her phone, and Gladys tells her, next time, be more careful. She goes to the other side of the room, and Brando says, but not too careful. You might miss out on something good. He apologizes for his mom, but Sasha says, in her own way, Gladys is just trying to look out for him. She has to run, and he asks, who’s looking out for her? She says, she thought he was, calling him Mr. Stalker. He says, so his stalking is welcome now, and she says, maybe because she’ll also be stalking him. Unfortunately, I can see the Twitter reaction now being right up there with Baby, It’s Cold Outside. <heaving a heavy sigh over people being offended too easily and in any context>

Anna tells Valentin, it wasn’t until she was face to face with Cyrus, that she realized they weren’t entirely powerless. He asks if she wants to share what’s on her mind, and she says, poisoning an innocent, and holding on to the antidote for ransom is classic Faison (ha-ha! Faison Classic). It’s appalling, but not surprising that his son would follow his example. What Peter doesn’t realize is, the same tactics that brought down Faison, can bring him down too.

Martin says if Cyrus is grimacing at Anna, he advises him to stop. Cyrus says he’s smiling, and Martin says, Valentin is very protective of Anna, and he’s also very dangerous. Not in the hairy back, knuckle-dragging, let’s-break-their-knees way, familiar to the garden variety simians Cyrus employs. The last place Cyrus wants to be is on Valentin’s bad side. Cyrus says he’s counting on Martin to keep the peace between him and his client. As to Anna, what does Martin know about her? Martin says, he’s an attorney, not one of Peter’s muck-raking journalists, and Cyrus asks if Martin doesn’t find it fascinating. First, Anna was Peter’s mother; now she’s his aunt, and they’re not good terms. Apparently a lot of dirty laundry was spilled at the wedding that didn’t happen. It might prove useful as leverage. Martin says, to who? Against who [sic]? Cyrus’s new friend Peter? Why does he care about the man anyway? Cyrus says he doesn’t. Peter is merely a means to an end. And if it goes well, the end may soon be in sight.

Carly tells Laura, now it makes sense. Now she knows why Cyrus wasn’t upset when she rejected his offer to trade Florence for Jason’s freedom. He already had a plan in place with Nikolas. Laura says, she’s right then. Martin let something slip to Nikolas, so Cyrus is getting his mother back, but through her son. Carly asks if Nikolas doesn’t know he’s walking into a trap. Cyrus has all the power. This is what he does; creates danger, then offers to erase it. Laura says, and before you know it, he owns you, and Carly says, he did the same thing to Julian, and Nikolas is married to Julian’s sister. Can’t Nikolas see where this is headed? Laura says she’s not defending Nikolas, but Carly has taken risks to protect the people she loves. Carly says she knows; they both have. Even if Cyrus keeps his word, and protects Alexis in Pentenville, that’s great for Alexis, but it leaves Jason in an even worse position. Laura says, and it gets Nikolas in even deeper with Cyrus. Carly asks how they stop Nikolas.   

Nikolas talks to the Colonel again, and asks if he can overcome the Corinthos guards. Ava tells Nikolas, whatever he decides, she’s with him. He tells the Colonel to wait for his signal.   

Alexis tells Elda, crazy weather, huh? Elda asks who Alexis is calling crazy, and pins Alexis against the wall.  

On Monday, Curtis asks how bad someone wants to find out, Cyrus wants Martin to celebrate with him, Anna visits Jason, and Elda says she’s going to make sure Alexis remembers. And I don’t think Elda means her birthday.

🩺 By the way. John Stamos (ex-Blackie) was on Watch What Happens Live this week, and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the cast of General Hospital. No surprise.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Phyllis tells Sonny, welcome to the Tan-O, the best place town. Not that there’s much competition. Sonny says he likes it, and she says she thought he would. She made him an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow, a specialist in memory loss, but for now he needs a warm place to stay, and some friendly faces. He says he appreciates her kindness, but he’s got no money. She says she covered him at the clinic, and as for this place, the bartender has a soft spot for her; he’s her husband. Sonny laughs, and Phyllis introduces her husband Lenny. Lenny tells Sonny not to let the door hit him on his way out.

Tracy sees Finn, and says, hello stranger, but Finn says he’s not the stranger. He’s been there the whole time. She’s the one who skipped town on him. She says she’s back, and taking him to dinner, and he says he’d love that, but… She says she has the feeling a paltry excuse is coming. Finn says he’s monitoring a critical patient. He heard she’s been busy since she got back, and she asks who’s been telling tales about her. He says, Alexis.   

Alexis looks over Julian’s photos again.

Sam tells Olivia, if Alexis doesn’t remember disarming the alarm, maybe it’s possible they didn’t come to the house. Olivia says she realizes she dragged Sam there to listen to Alexis’s story, and Sam asks if Olivia is having second thoughts. Olivia says she doesn’t want to believe that Tracy deliberately lied, and Sam says, then quit. Olivia says, without knowing the truth? and Sam tells her, then she has to be willing to follow where it leads, even if it’s to her own family.   

Chase sits at the MetroCourt bar, and Michael asks if the seat next to him is taken. Chase says be his guest, and Michael tells the bartender, he’ll have what Chase is having.  

Willow opens the door to Sasha, and says she wasn’t sure Sasha would come. Sasha says, to be honest, she thought about bailing a thousand times, and Willow says, since they’re being honest, part of her wished Sasha would. She asks what convinced Sasha to show up, and Sasha says she tallied the reasons to stay away, and avoid what her counselor calls emotional complications. That took time. On the other side of the ledger, she could only find one reason to come. Willow says, and that was? Sasha tells Willow that she didn’t have anything better to do.

At Pozzulo’s, Cyrus asks, how about that nightcap? and Brick says, they have hemlock and arsenic. Name his poison. Cyrus laughs, and says it’s good to see Brick again, and Jason asks what he wants. Cyrus says he wants to celebrate the life of their fallen comrade. His deepest condolences to both of them about Sonny. In this moment, he’d like nothing more than to set their differences aside – and there are many – and raise a glass to their friend. Brick says, as if Sonny was ever Cyrus’s friend, and Cyrus says all their friction is in the past. He almost said water under the bridge, but that would have been in poor taste. Now is the time for them to join together before the wrong people fill the void left behind be Sonny. May he rest in peace.

Olivia says, before she commits to anything, she wants to know how Sam is going to prove Tracy lied. Sam says the security company that installed the alarm also monitors it 24/7, and Olivia says, so they’d be able to tell her if anyone activated the alarm that night. Sam says, or if it was disarmed the night the car went off the road. Olivia says, which supports the theory that the two of them were never at the house, and Sam says, leaving Tracy’s story up for grabs. Olivia asks if they shouldn’t get Alexis involved, and Sam says, normally, she’d say yes, but her mom is walking an emotional tightrope right now. If they get her hopes up… Alexis comes downstairs, and Sam asks if she’s okay.

Tracy and Finn go into his office, and Tracy says they were talking about Alexis. Did Alexis tell him that she was with her the night she got hammered and drove her car off the road? He says, Alexis swears she never got behind the wheel. He guesses she’s in some pretty deep denial. Tracy says, they both know from bitter experience, denial can be your worst enemy. He says, tell him about it, and she says, maybe he should tell her about it. He’s about to get married, and suddenly has this grim look on his face. What’s that all about?

Chase asks if Michael is just a guy having a beer, or is this a cover for a sneak attack? Michael tells him not to worry. He thinks he made his point at the gym. Chase says, something tells him, they’re not even. He hasn’t seen Michael since the authorities called off the search for his father, and he wants Michael to know how sorry he is. Michael thanks him, and says he knows the PCPD did what they could. Chase says, what they could inside their jurisdiction. Michael says he went there, and saw what was left of the bridge. He saw where his father went into the river. It was surprisingly still on the surface, but the water is cold, and deep, with a strong current. The more he looked for a way out for his father, the more he searched for a sign of hope, it became clear that nothing short of a miracle could have saved him. Chase says, as his friend – or at least his former friend – Michael and his family have his condolences. As a cop, he’d be remiss not to caution Michael to please, watch his back. He and everybody close to him could be in immediate danger.

Willow says she was glad Sasha was there for Michael the night he found out about Sonny. She knows it meant a lot to him. Sasha says, it goes both ways. Michael was there for her too. He visited her when she was in the hospital. Willow says he told her, and Sasha says he encouraged her to go to counseling; drug counseling. Willow asks how it’s going, and Sasha says, so far, so good. She’s not doing drugs, and she’s learning a lot about herself. Before they go off on a tangent about counseling, she needs to clarify something. The night they called off the search for Sonny, she wasn’t there at the house for Michael. She was actually there for Carly. She wanted to thank Carly for lighting a fire under her when she needed help. She just happened to be there when Michael got the news, but she’s not the one who’s supposed to be comforting him. Willow asks, what if she’s wrong? What if she is supposed to be the one?

Phyllis says, Lenny Caulfield, where are your manners? Mike showed up at the clinic, half frozen to death. Lenny says he’s not in the mood for another one of Phyllis’s strays. She tells him, the Tan-O has a reputation for hospitality. So stop being a grouch, and be hospitable. She tells Sonny, don’t worry. He talks tough, but her Lenny is a puddy-tat. Lenny says, and she’s always picking up strays. He asks Sonny what line of work he’s in, and how he ended up in the woods. Sonny says Lenny isn’t going to like the answer, and Lenny says, try him. Sonny says he doesn’t know.

Cyrus tells Jason and Brick, he’s been trying to track down his mother. He doesn’t suppose they have any information as to her whereabouts. Brick asks if Cyrus tried looking for her the last place he saw her, and Cyrus says, apparently Jason hasn’t kept Brick apprised. His mother is an invalid. She was receiving the best care possible, until someone removed her from the facility. The Vermont police are looking into this, but Jason already knew that. Jason says Cyrus mentioned it in a previous conversation, and Cyrus says, and he’s still not received any reassurance. How does he know she’s all right, and hasn’t met a terrible fate? Jason says, like the Novaks? and Cyrus says, the who? Brick says, the Novaks are one of the five families. They were bringing a shipment of their product through Port Charles. Cyrus says, that’s distressing, and Brick says, it was for them at the warehouse down by the docks. Everybody dead, and the place turned upside down. Does Cyrus know anything about it?

Alexis says, everything is not okay, especially with the photo album. It’s just begging her to get hammered for its own amusement. Olivia offers to take it off her hands, but Alexis says she has a better idea – the fireplace. Olivia says, what if Sam or her grandkids want to look at it? but Sam says, go ahead; throw it in. Think of it as purging. Alexis says, it’s more like an exorcism, and Sam says it might make Alexis feel better. Alexis says Julian bought the house. Maybe they should burn that down too. Olivia says it’s a nice idea, but it’s called arson. Alexis says, okay, let’s do this, and Sam says she’s going to check on the kids. Olivia says she has Sam covered, and asks Alexis where she wants to start. Alexis takes out a picture of her and Julian, and says, this one, putting it in the fire. Taking out another, Olivia says they look so happy in this one, but Alexis says, all lies. She rips it up, and Olivia asks if she’s sure. Alexis throws it in, and Olivia says, arrivederci.  

Outside, Sam phones Forrester Home Security. She explains that she has a question about one of their alarm systems, and hopes they can help.

Finn tells Tracy, they scaled back from the big top circus event to something more manageable. She says it sounds like it’s up his alley. What’s the problem? He says, just when it got good, things got complicated. She says, it’s a wedding, and he says, it was a wedding. Now it’s a double wedding with Maxie… and Peter. Tracy makes a face, and he says, exactly. His father is planning on staying for the wedding, and maybe indefinitely. She says she knows how complicated fathers can be, and Finn says, it’s not just him. His step mom is coming. Did he mention they were separated? Tracy asks if she’s invited or has to crash it, and he asks which she prefers. She says, crashing it, and she wants the chicken. He says, good choice, and she tells him to start with his stepmom. Does she know her? Finn says she’s Jackie Templeton, and Tracy says, Jackie Templeton is his stepmother? He says, and Chase’s mother. She asks how come he never mentioned his father was married to Jackie? He doesn’t like her? he says, that’s not what it is, and she asks, then what is it?   

Michael tells Chase, it’s not the Corinthos family’s first rodeo. Jason will make sure they’re protected. Chase says he respects Jason, but there was an incident in the warehouse district. He says he can’t talk about an ongoing investigation, but Michael says he gets the picture. Was it his dad’s warehouse? Chase says, it was leased through a holding company; they haven’t ID’d the exact tenants. Michael says he’s guessing the owner is in Panama and untraceable, and Chase says, probably. He tells Michael, be careful. He’d hate if anything happened to Michael, or anyone close to him. Michael says he’ll make sure Willow is protected too. Chase wonders if Michael needs safety protocols, and Michael asks if Chase and Willow talked safety protocols when they had dinner.

Willow says she knows how much Sasha cares about Michael. Even though he’s strong, he needs someone to turn to. Sasha says he has Willow, his wife. Willow says, of course (🍷) he does. They’ve always been friends, and she’s sure they always will be. Sasha says, hold on. Willow is talking like still it’s still a marriage of convenience, but it’s not, right? They got married to keep Wiley safe from Nelle. Nelle is gone now, and Wiley’s safe, but they’re still together. Willow says, yes, but… and Sasha says she doesn’t have to pretend. She knows they’re sleeping together. Willow sits down.

Brick says, what happened at the warehouse was strictly amateur, and Cyrus says, fascinating. In what way? Brick says, it was sloppy and unprofessional, an open invite for reprisal. Jason says, the Novaks are one of the five families, and when you attack one, the others unite against you. Cyrus says, then he’s glad he’s not the one who’s set to incur their collective wrath.  

Lenny says Sonny doesn’t remember what he does for a living, or how he ended up in the woods? Sonny says, both are a mystery, and Phyllis says, the doctor thinks his injury messed with his memory. Lenny says, so he could be anyone; a grifter or a criminal. Sonny asks if Lenny has a Marine tattoo, and Lenny says, he remembers what the tattoo stands for, but not his name? Phyllis says, that’s how memory loss works, and Lenny says, fine. What about his tattoo? Sonny says he thought the Marines never leave any men behind. Lenny says, they don’t. Did Mike serve, or doesn’t he remember? Phyllis suggests Lenny shut up and give Sonny some coffee already, and Lenny says, why not a four-course meal? She says she already fed him the bolognaise. Just give him some coffee, and friendly conversation. Lenny says, no, and Sonny says he’s not there for a handout. If Lenny gives him some coffee, he’s willing to work in the kitchen. Phyllis says, sounds like a good offer, and Lenny tells Phyllis, fine. Inform the kitchen they have a new dishwasher. Phyllis goes to the kitchen, and Lenny says, listen up, Mike. If whatever he can’t remember brings them trouble, he’ll have to answer to him.

Sam asks if Alexis feels better, and Alexis says she actually does. It felt good to purge. She thanks Sam for encouraging her, and Sam says, it’s later than she thought. Maybe Alexis wants to head up to bed. She and Olivia can clean up and lock up. Alexis says she appreciates that, and tells Sam the security code is Scout’s birthday. She thanks them, tells them goodnight, and goes upstairs. Olivia asks what Sam found out, and Sam says, according the security company, it was set in the early evening, probably before Alexis left for the MetroCourt. It wasn’t disarmed until days later. Olivia asks if there’s any other way Alexis and Tracy could have gotten inside without setting it off, or if it was set off in error, but Sam says, no. And Olivia clearly saw the coffee on the counter? Olivia says, all it needed was a neon sign saying caffeine. None of Tracy’s story holds up. Sam says, they have her, and Olivia says, except for one thing; motive.  

Finn tells Tracy, his mom had just died, and his dad remarried in a couple of months. She asks if things smelled rotten in Denmark, and he says he had a hard time accepting it. He acted immaturely, and did things he wished he hadn’t. Right now, he should feel like the luckiest guy in the world, but all he can think about are the things he should have done differently. She says, what a spectacular waste of time, and he says he knew she’d be sympathetic. She asks, what’s the point in second guessing himself now? and he says he’s thinking of coming clean and telling the truth. She asks, why now? All of the people involved are grown-ups, and his brother wasn’t even born. He says, Chase came along later, and she says he needs to ask himself, would he be helping the people he loves by easing his burden, and putting it on their shoulders? He says he knows how to answer, and she says, does he?

Chase asks how much Willow told Michael, and Michael says, they agreed to be honest, but it’s no secret she still cares. Chase says they talked about that, and decided… He doesn’t really want to hear this, does he? Michael says, no, but he probably should, and Chase says, it felt good talking with her, as if nothing had happened. Even though everything has. Michael says, things got more complicated than expected, and Chase says, some things are more clear. Willow is married, and she’s not that kind of girl… Michael says, okay. He knows what happened.

Willow says Sasha isn’t wrong. Something did happen between her and Michael that they didn’t expect. Sasha says, they consummated the marriage. Good for them. She knew it was a possibility. She and Chase pushed Willow and Michael together for Wiley’s sake, but they figured sooner or later the marriage would become real, and it has. Willow says, it’s not that simple, and Sasha asks, why? Willow says, when she’s with Chase, the feelings come back like they never left. Like how Sasha’s feelings for Michael come back when she’s alone with him. Because they never left either, did they?

Cyrus guesses he’s not getting that drink, and heads for the door. He says, look on the bright side. Regardless of whoever did the housekeeping, the problem was corrected. He thought what happened tonight might be considered a good will gesture for the unfortunate misunderstanding on the pier. Jason says he thinks they understood each other perfectly.

Lenny says, Sonny had no ID? and Sonny says, they checked his pockets, but there was nothing, and his wallet got lost. Lenny asks if he checked his wedding ring or watch, and Sonny takes off his watch, telling Lenny, it has an inscription. Check it out. Lenny reads, Mike, never enough time, Love, A. He says, that’s how they came up with Mike, huh? He’s one lucky s-o-b if he survived a winter night like this. Phyllis says, someone is looking out for him, and Lenny says, she’s always thinking there’s a guiding light looking out. She says, that’s because there is, and he says, some medical professional. Phyllis sits down with them, and says she’s had patients who thought they’d lost everything. One even lost her precious child, but the child was taken away from her, and there was nothing any of them could do about it. Sonny asks if they found the child, and she says, not yet, but as long as there’s life, there’s hope. Lenny says, see what he means? and Sonny says, there should be a lot more Phyllises in the world. A guy walks into the bar, which is not the start of a joke. He looks like a troublemaker.    

Olivia asks Sam why Tracy would frame Alexis with a DWI. What is she trying to get? Sam has no idea. She can’t think of a reason, but knows how they can figure it out. They’ll go to Tracy. They’ll be calm and firm, and just ask for her side of the story. See if she’s honest. Olivia says Sam is Leo’s half-sister, and she loves Sam, but it’s a terrible idea.   

Finn looks at his phone, and tells Tracy, duty calls. Tracy says, just as she was about to solve all his problems. Too bad. He says he’s glad she stopped by, and she says, of course (🍷) he is. Dinner and backgammon soon. He says he hopes she makes the wedding, and she asks if he doesn’t mean weddings, plural. He says he’ll be glad to have a friendly face on his side of the aisle, and she says she wouldn’t miss it. He tells her, the whole family thing is a work in progress. Violet is the best thing that ever happened to him. If he let her down, he doesn’t think he could live with himself.   

Chase tells Michael, he never intended… Just talking felt so familiar, and it happened. He’s sure Willow explained. Michael says, he’d found out they might be calling off the search for his dad; there was no time to explain. Chase says he thought Michael knew, and Michael says, he knew they’d find a way past the hurt and the lies, and it sounds like they did. Chase asks if Michael is mad, and Michael says, he’s not sure, but what he is, is late. The beer is on him.   

Sasha tells Willow, she’s never denied still being in love with Michael. She doesn’t get why Willow is telling her this. Wait. Willow has feelings for Michael and Chase, and she wants Sasha to be the reason she gives up Michael. Willow admits she doesn’t know. She hopes not. Sasha says, nothing would please her more if Willow got back with Chase, and she got back with Michael, but she doesn’t know what Michael wants. She knows she wants Michael to be happy, even if it’s not with her, and Willow says she wants that too. Sasha says, Willow and Michael need to figure out if they belong together. She’s not going to make the decision for Willow. She did that once, and look how it worked out.

Sonny asks if Phyllis knows that guy, and she says, no, but she knows the type. They come in occasionally to stir up trouble. Sonny asks what they do, and she says, Lenny used to toss them out on their ear, but he’s got a bad heart now, and worries about her. She looks at Lenny, and says, so maybe it’s best to try and get along. Lenny gets up, and goes to bar. He asks what he can get the guy, and dude takes out a gun, saying, he’ll give Lenny one guess.

Olivia tells Sam, the worst thing would be to come at Tracy too strong and too fast, and for Sam to let Tracy know she’s on to her. Sam says, doesn’t Olivia doesn’t mean we. Olivia is the one who came to her with the suspicion. She’s just doing this because of Olivia, and she’s right. Why would she want to back out now? There’s a knock at the door, and Sam wonders who it could be at this hour. It’s Tracy.  

Willow thanks Sasha for coming by, and Sasha says she knows Willow is confused and conflicted. Willow says, an understatement. Sasha says she’s sorry she didn’t help, but Willow says she did. She’s not sure how, but she’s knows Sasha helped. Sasha says she knows Willow pretty well, and knows Michael. She doesn’t think the two of them would have become as close as they did if they didn’t have something real. Willow needs to figure out if she wants to fight for it. Michael walks in.    

Cyrus says, it seems Jason’s differences with the Novaks have been addressed, yet his mother is still missing. Jason says, that’s not his problem, and Cyrus says, his problems are Jason’s problems. If he does something for Jason, he expects the favor to be returned – with interest. Brick opens the door, and Cyrus squeezes past him. Brick closes the door, and tells Jason, sorry, but he has to ask. Since when has Jason been in the business of snatching old ladies from nursing homes to use as leverage? Jason says, sometimes bad things happen to bad people.

Lenny says he doesn’t want any trouble, and dude says that makes two of them. So why doesn’t Lenny open the cash box and show him how generous he can be? Sonny looks at dude, and dude asks if Sonny has a problem.

Alexis wakes up, and looks through some documents.

Tracy is surprised to see Sam there, and Sam says Olivia was helping her out with her mom. Tracy asks how Alexis is, and Sam says, she’s not doing that well. She hasn’t been great since she ran her car off the road. Tracy says, that’s why she’s there. She was with Alexis that night, and thought she’d stop by to check on her. Sam says she’s surprised. She didn’t think Tracy cared. Tracy says, she does. Is Alexis available? Sam says, no; she’s in bed. Olivia says, after everything that’s happened, Alexis isn’t up to visitors. Tracy says, give Alexis her best, and asks if she can give Olivia a ride. Sam says they still have things to do, and Olivia says, it won’t take that long. Sam tells Tracy, she’ll drop Olivia off, and Olivia says, they’ll lock up when they leave. Tracy asks, why wouldn’t they? and Olivia says she assumed if Tracy cared enough to come by, she obviously wants Alexis to be safe and sound. Sam asks if Tracy knew that her mother got a state of the art alarm system, and Tracy says, good to know. Tell her mom she said hello. Sam closes the door, and Olivia says she’s absolutely certain Tracy never laid eyes on that keypad in her life. Sam says, another indication that she was never there. More and more her story doesn’t add up.

Finn phones Anna, saying he’ll be home soon and he loves her. Chase tosses some money on the reception desk, and Finn says, billing is on another floor. Chase tells him, take it anyway. Doesn’t he recognize it? Finn says, currency? and Chase says it’s Finn’s money from poker night. Finn asks why Chase is giving it back, and Chase says, it’s a symbol. His luck is changing. He has a chance to get Willow back. Finn says he likes the odds, but keep his winnings. Chase says he owes it to Finn. He couldn’t have gotten better advice from their dad.

Sasha tells Michael, hello and goodbye. She was just leaving. He tells her, she says that every time they run into one another, and she says, maybe next time, she’ll say something else. She jets, and Michael says, what was that? Willow says, can’t a girl be in a good mood? She asks how his meeting went, and he says, it ended early. He tells her, they need to talk, and she says she thinks so too.

Brick tells Jason, Cyrus made it sound like quid pro quo. It sounds like if his mom is safe and sound, Port Charles will have peace. If not, he thinks the message is clear. What is Jason going to do? Jason says, nothing. If Cyrus gets what he wants, he’ll just start taking more, and he’s not letting that happen.  

Dude sees Sonny looking at him, and asks if Sonny’s got a problem. Sonny says, no problem, and dude says, that’s what he thought. He’s not going to tell Lenny again; open the cash box. Phyllis gets up, and asks why he doesn’t leave them alone. They’re hard working people. He tells her to shut her mouth, and Lenny says leave his wife alone. Dude asks what he’s going to do about it. We see the gears whirring in Sonny’s mind.  

On Monday, Ava gets a terrific idea, Jax asks if someone has second thoughts, Josslyn asks why Cameron would think she’d throw away her journal, and the gunman tells Sonny, now would be a good time to shut up.

Wrapping it up for this week in television, but I’ll see you when it’s time to be Below Deck. Congrats if you have a long weekend, a smaller congrats if it’s the usual two days off, and my sympathies if you’re just X’ing more days off the calendar. Or the biggest congrats if you’re happy about that. Regardless, there seems to be real light at the end of what seems like a never-ending tunnel, so think good thoughts. And while you’re at it, stay safe, stay emboldened, and stay not opening any invite for reprisal when it comes to the five families. I still say that sounds like a spaghetti sauce brand.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I missed some of the beginning, but this is what happened. Maxie and Nina went to Nina’s Crimson office, and said they had a pitch to give Nina. Jax showed up to see Carly, along with Ava, Nikolas, and Avery. Avery told Carly that she hadn’t wanted Sonny to go, but he was with Mike and Kiki now. Jax found Trina and Josslyn in the kitchen, and Josslyn admitted she’d been hiding there. Josslyn said she felt numb from so many deaths, and Jax suggested she keep busy. Josslyn brought Avery into the kitchen where she colored at the table. Ava asked Carly about Avery’s necklace, but Carly said it was still at the jeweler. At the hospital, when Brando suggested he and TJ catch up over a beer, TJ punched him, but Brando wouldn’t fight back. Portia told Curtis that Trina couldn’t get past her father’s betrayal, but their conversation was interrupted by TJ and Brando yelling. Curtis separated them, and dragged TJ into an examining room. TJ said he was angry with Brando, but like Curtis, he was also mad at Jordan. A hiker named Eddie found Sonny, who told him that an old man had helped him. Eddie thought Sonny should get to a hospital, and tied a bandana around his head wound. He took Sonny to his truck, and Sonny tried to make sense of things, but couldn’t remember his own name. And away we go…

Ava tells Carly, what she said to Avery about Sonny being with Mike and Kiki, she thought it would be a comfort, that he’s with people he loves. Carly tells Ava that she would have said the same thing. She believes Sonny is with Morgan too. Ava say she’s sorry for Carly’s loss. Whatever she’s had to say about Sonny, Avery loved him and misses him tremendously already. Carly says, it’s going to be a rough couple of days, but it feels more alive with Avery there. Ava says she knows it’s a terrible time, but she thinks it’s best that they address the issue head on. Carly tells her, if she has something to say, say it, and Ava says the visitation agreement was between her and Sonny. Sonny had primary custody, but he’s gone now. She’s Avery’s custodial parent, and as Avery’s mother, she believes it’s best that Avery live with her.   

Eddie tells says they need to stop the bleeding, but it will be faster if he takes Sonny to the hospital himself rather than waiting for the ambulance. Hypothermia play tricks on the mind, but his driver’s license should be inside his wallet. Sonny says, no wallet, and Eddie says maybe someone jumped him. He’s definitely not dressed for the woods. He had to be coming or going from somewhere. Sonny says he’s trying, but he can’t think of anything before he woke up. It’s like his life started after he fell.

Carly says she can’t believe Ava is using this situation to make a custody power play. Avery has lived there her whole life with her sisters, her, and Sonny. This is her home. Ava says, it’s not a power play; she’s Avery’s mother. Carly says, biologically and legally, Ava is Avery’s mother, but they’re her family. Avery belongs to her and Sonny, and she needs them. Ava says, make no mistake. Avery is her daughter, and it’s her job to protect Avery. Sonny is dead, and so is her brother. Carly says, her brother blew up The Floating Rib, and Ava says, neither one of them knows what’s going to happen next. Avery will be less of a target at Windymere. Carly asks Nikolas if he knew Ava was going to use this moment to launch a custody battle, and Nikolas says, as far as he knows, it’s not a battle. He’s looked over the papers, and Carly has no real claim. Ava says, they gave Avery a nice home, and regardless of whatever went on, she thinks it would be harmful to cut them out of Avery’s life. She wants to continue the relationship, and is open to a reasonable visitation schedule. Carly says, and Ava gets to decide what’s reasonable.   

Maxie says they have a pitch perfect for Crimson, and Nina says, Sasha is back to work? She hasn’t been out of the hospital that long. Sasha says she’s getting out-patient treatment at GH, but she wanted to go back to work. Maxie says, the rumors are already flying about Sasha being in the hospital. Not just with media sites, but the retailers. Nina says, that’s another reason for Sasha to take her return slowly; so there’s not a big disaster because she rushed back too soon. Maxie says, she’s not rushing; she’s being bold. Instead of having her experience used against her, she wants to tell her side of the story. Nothing trashy or tabloidy. It won’t just be about the drugs, but Sasha’s road to recovery. Nina says, she wants to turn it into a public relations event? What is Maxie thinking? She gets what they’re doing. They’re a susceptible young company, and need to protect their brand, but throwing Sasha to the wolves… Maxie says Nina didn’t let her finish. Nina says, Sasha needs to heal, and she wants no part of the public scrutiny that’s going to come with it. Sasha says she wants Nina to be the one to tell her story.   

Curtis tells TJ, he’s beyond mad at TJ’s mom. Like TJ, he’s sick of the lies, and sick of her telling him that she lied to protect the both of them. TJ says, it’s not like she hasn’t lied before. Oops, your biological father isn’t the man you grew up with. He’s dad’s Army buddy. He got past it, and thought they’d pushed through and come to a place of truth. His mom knew he wasn’t off someplace healing his broken heart. She knew he was kidnapped, and could have told Molly the truth. Instead, she decimated Molly’s faith in him, and Molly slept with another man. The lies and excuses his mom gives are bad enough. She always says it’s a bad situation, and she had to make a tough choice, but it’s a choice he can’t live with.

Jax says he hasn’t seen Trina since it was discovered her dad was alive. How is he? Trina says, he’s hiding in jail, and Jax says he realizes that, but has she seen him? Trina says, nope, and Josslyn says Trina is pissed that her father lied to her. Jax says he doesn’t know what he’d do, but as a parent, when your child is in danger, all the rules go out the window. Trina says, so leaving her to grieve was okay? and Jax says, Taggert is alive, and unlike Sonny’s children, she gets a second chance to be a part of his life. Does she want to waste it on anger? Jax asked Trina if she would take Avery to her room, since he wanted to talk to Josslyn.

Sonny sees something hanging from Eddie’s mirror, and asks, what’s that? Eddie says, a St. Christopher medal. His grandma gave it to him. He doesn’t know if he believes all that, but he’s happy knowing it’s in the car. Does Sonny remember something? Sonny says he got a feeling he’s missing something. Eddie tells him, hang on, buddy. Don’t pass out. He’ll get Sonny to the hospital as fast as he can. He speeds up, then sees flashing lights. He says, crap, and pulls over. He tells Sonny, the situation is strange to say the least. Please keep his cool. The officer comes to the driver’s window, and asks to see Eddie’s license and registration. Eddie tries to explain that he’s taking Sonny to the hospital, but the officer asks if he’s looking for trouble. He needs the license and registration now.

Jax tells Josslyn that it was nice for Trina to take Avery to her room, and Josslyn says he asked her to. He says he wanted to finish the conversation they started on the phone, and thought it was best to keep it just between the two of them. Josslyn asks if he’s still upset that she won’t leave the country. She doesn’t want to argue, but she’s not changing her mind. As much as she loves him, her mom needs her; so do her sisters. He says, it doesn’t matter that her reason is admirable; it still presents a risk. That said, he doesn’t agree, but he won’t fight her – for now. Nina reminded him that she’s 18, and old enough to vote and make her own choices. Josslyn says, go, Nina, and he says, but if things escalate, he might change his mind. She says, fine. As long as he understands she might not change hers. He says he meant what he said to Trina. He doesn’t know how far he’d go to protect her, but he’d rather face her being angry with him, than living without her.

Curtis says, that’s why TJ is torn up. Molly slept with Brando, and he wanted to beat Brando’s ass. TJ says, wouldn’t he? and Curtis says, probably. TJ says, Molly is responsible, but she had to be in a horrible place to do what she did. Curtis says he was there when Molly was looking for answers. She was frantic. Jordan hadn’t slept, and was out of her mind with worry. TJ asks if he’s giving Jordan a pass, and Curtis says, no, but she was terrified. She kept asking questions, and Jordan was afraid if she told Molly the truth, all hell would break loose, and they’d both get killed. But that’s not his point. His point is, TJ can’t just walk out. TJ says, but Curtis can? Jordan is his wife. What is he going to do?

Portia gives Brando an ice pack, and says it should help. Molly runs in, and asks, where’s TJ? Did Brando hurt him? Portia says, TJ went after Brando, who refused to fight. Molly admits it was a stupid question, but do they know where he is? Portia says, Curtis took TJ to an exam room to cool off. Molly asks if Brando hurt him, and Brando says, of course (🍷) not. Molly says she decided to tell TJ the truth, and she’s overwhelmed by the fallout. Brando says it would have been nice to know TJ was gunning for him. She says she should have called him, but she never expected this. TJ’s not a violent guy. Brando says, she should gone with her instinct and told him, and Molly says, they both know why he did it.

Ava goes to the kitchen, and Nikolas tells Carly, he spoke to Spencer this morning. He’s heartbroken; he loved his Uncle Sonny. Carly says they got close when Nikolas was gone. She can’t believe he’s going along with this. This has been Avery’s home most of her life. Ava used Mike’s condition to blackmail herself into partial custody. Sonny only granted visitation for Avery. He would have never done it if he’d known Ava was planning to raise her alone. Nikolas says, first of all, she’s not alone; she has him, and hopefully Spencer soon. Carly asks if he expects her to believe his marriage is going to last, and he says, believe what she wants, but he has no intention of leaving his wife. There’s no way they’re going to stand back and let Carly raise another child who’s not her own. He hasn’t forgotten how she tried to pass off Spencer as Jax’s son. She says, that lasted all of two months. He let Spencer believe he was an orphan. He sacrificed his son so he could get his hands on his inheritance. Ava doesn’t deserve Avery. He says, Ava has as much right to Avery as she does, and she says, Sonny is barely gone, and they’re acting like his wishes don’t matter. Ava says, that’s not true. She’s absolutely going to take Sonny’s wishes into consideration, but she’s not going to be ruled by them.

The cop tells Eddie, everything is fine, but he’s still giving him a ticket for doing 80. He looks at Sonny, and wonders if he knows him. He asks, what’s going on? and Eddie says he ran across Sonny in the woods. Sonny is hurt, and he’s taking him to the hospital. Sonny tells Eddie, it’s fine. The officer is just doing his job. Get out of the car, hands up, nice and easy.

Ava sees Trina in the kitchen, and wishes her a happy new year. She missed Trina over the holidays. Trina says she’s sorry she had to cut back on her hours. A lot of stuff was going on. Ava says, she heard Trina received a special gift. Trina asks if Ava is talking about her father being alive. She’s glad he’s alive. Ava asks if that’s all. She recognizes that stubborn expression. What is Trina digging in her heels about? Trina says her father could have told her that he was alive, and Ava says, think about that. What would it look like? The whole city thinks her father is dead, and expects her to mourn. Would she be able to keep up the lie? Keep it from Josslyn, her other friends, and her mother? And if she told Portia, Portia would have to start lying. The more people who know, the more dangerous life becomes. What her dad did was commendable. Trina says Ava saw what she went through; she was crushed. Ava says she knows, and understands Trina is upset about what the lie cost her, but consider what it cost him.

Brando tells Molly, he wanted to come clean, but she talked him out of it. She says she knew she should be honest, but she couldn’t make herself do it. She’s sorry he got caught up in all this. He says, the circumstances were extreme. She could have acted better, no question, but no one hurt anyone. He actually likes TJ, and could have used a friend. Molly sees Curtis and TJ, and says she hates to interrupt, but she’d like to talk to TJ in private. TJ thinks they should, and Curtis says, they can get through this. Just make sure they’re honest with each other. They go into the exam room, and Molly says she can’t believe TJ went after Brando. He’s a former Marine. TJ says he knows, but when he saw Brando, he lost it. Brando pretended to be his friend, and was lying to his face. He should have stepped up, and told the truth. She says, that’s not on Brando. As soon as Brando found out, he wanted to be upfront, but she asked him not to.

Sasha says she knows Nina is hesitant, and she gets it. At first, she hated the idea. She wanted to forget her drug detour, and pretend it didn’t happen, but that’s not what they’re teaching her in counseling. She can’t keep it to herself. Maxie and Lucy trusted her, and she put the company at risk. Nina thinks Sasha is being too hard on herself, but Sasha says, the reality is, she won’t heal if she doesn’t step up, so she’s doing it. Maxie is right. There’s already gossip, and she wants to give her side. She might help someone. Nina says she doesn’t have to invite Crimson into every corner of her life. The internet trolls can be vicious. Remember Ava? Maxie says, Sasha’s not Ava. Her problem started with a real heartache; who can’t relate? Who doesn’t want a magic option that will make it go away? It’s relatable to Nina’s readers. Sasha says, Maxie trusts Nina, and so does she. Maxie says, poor model turns to drugs, that’s not Sasha’s story. Deception is about strong women who are brave enough to say they’ve messed up and they’re sorry. Nina says, Sasha is good at putting up a brave front, and is always ready to accept responsibility and hold herself accountable. Sasha’s made a lot of mistakes, but from where Nina is sitting, she’s suffered more than enough. Why should she have to suffer any more? She’s sorry, but they’ll have to take the story elsewhere.

Jax asks if he’s interrupting, and Nikolas says, not at all. He was about to fetch his wife. Ava comes back, and says it’s time for them to go home, and they go upstairs. Carly tells Jax, Ava is rubbing off on Nikolas, and the kids will pay the price, especially Avery. She asks if he talked to Josslyn, and he says he did, but she doesn’t want to leave Carly or her sisters. Carly says, her sisters love her. That’s another reason Avery should stay there. She just lost Sonny. He says, this is Avery’s home, right? but Carly says, not anymore. Sonny is gone, and Ava is Avery’s biological mother, so she has full custody. Ava is going to take Avery to live with her. Great. Avery has been there all of four times, and now she’ll be living there. She lost her father, and now, thanks to Ava, she’s losing her home.   

Sonny and Eddie get out of the car, and the officer asks what a city boy like Sonny is going freezing in the woods. Eddie says, officer… but the cop says he’s talking to Sonny. What’s with the bandana? Sonny says he honestly doesn’t know how he wound up there. The guy is right; he’s hurt. His head got… Can the officer tell him where he is? The officer says, Sonny has no idea how he got an injury or why he was in the woods? Sonny says, he knows it’s farfetched. When he woke up, his head was injured. He has no ID or wallet; no money. Eddie says, he’s in shock, and Sonny says, if it weren’t for Eddie, he would have frozen. The officer can’t give Eddie a ticket for just driving him to the hospital. If he needs to blame anyone, blame him. The officer says, there’s only one place they’re going, and that’s the ER. He’ll make sure they get there himself.

Josslyn thanks Trina for staying, and Trina says she remembers when her dad died… Correction, when she thought her dad died. Josslyn says, it’s so strange, saying Sonny’s not her dad. She spent a lot of time mad at him over the years. For a while, she wished her mom had stayed with her dad. Trina asks, what changed? and Josslyn says, her attitude, because Sonny never wavered. It didn’t matter what she said or did, Sonny was determined to love her and take care of her, whether she wanted him to or not. Trina says, it’s okay if she wants to cry, and Josslyn says she guesses over time Sonny just wore her down… because she loves him, and she misses him already.

Maxie guesses they should go, but Sasha wants to say something to Nina first. She thanks Nina for all the kind things she said about her. Personally, she thinks Nina was too kind, but that was always her nature. Nina tells her, wait. She’s serious when she tells Sasha to stop picking at her life like it was an open wound. That’s probably her fault for throwing what happened in Sasha’s face, and not acknowledge at the time what Sasha did for her. Sasha says she gave Nina heartbreak in losing her child, and Nina says, it never would have happened, the experience of believing she was this lovely woman’s mother. What a joy it was to take on that role for Sasha and Charlotte. It was a gift to experience motherhood, for what will probably be the only time in her life she’ll get to do it – with Sasha. She’s blessed. Sasha thanks her.

Carly tells Avery that she’ll see her real soon. She knows Avery will be spending more time with her mom and Nikolas, but she wants Avery to know she’ll keep her room exactly the way it is. She can come and visit, and stay with Carly anytime she wants. She’ll always have a home there. Avery says, Donna needs her big sister, and Carly says she’s right. Donna needs her big sister in her life. They hug, and Avery leaves with Ava and Nikolas. Jax holds Carly, and she cries. She says, it’s like losing Avery is the final proof Sonny is gone.

Molly tells TJ, Brando wanted to come clean, but she convinced him to stay quiet. At the time, it never occurred to her that she was cheating. She thought they were done, but when the truth came out, her world turned upside down. She told Brando that it could never happen again. Brando was never comfortable keeping the secret, but she couldn’t stand the idea of Brando telling him. He says, that’s why she avoided being Brando being with them, and she says, yes. Then TJ ended up liking him, and it made things harder. She promised herself that she’d tell him, but she kept putting it off. There was a lie of omission between them. They’ve seen what lies have done to their parents, and she doesn’t want to repeat their mistakes. She doesn’t want to be them. He takes her hands, and says, they have to do better. They’ll get there.

Maxie asks what happened with Nina’s biological daughter, and Sasha asks if that’s why Nina stopped wearing the necklace; she stopped searching. Nina says she made a decision to stop chasing something that she was never going to find, and be happy where she is right now.

Ava tells Avery, she spoke to Carly, and Avery’s necklace is still at the jewelry store. They can go shopping, and she can pick out a new one. Avery says she wants the special one that daddy liked, and Ava says, they’ll give Carly more time. She knows how important it is to Avery.

Carly tells Jax, Sonny would have never let that happen; that hateful woman taking Avery from her home. Um… If Sonny was there, it would have no reason to happen. She says, with Sonny gone, there’s no way to stop her, and Jax says he’s sorry she was left to go through this alone. She says she’s not alone. She has her kids, she has Jason, and she has him. He says, of course (🍷) she does, and he holds her as she clutches Sonny’s St. Christopher medal.  

Back in the car,Eddie says he’s impressed. Sonny had the cop eating out of his hand. Sonny says he has good instincts; it just came to him. He fingers Eddie’s St. Christopher medal.

Tomorrow, Olivia wonders what if Alexis isn’t responsible, Sasha tells Cyrus she knows it was him, and Jason asks Brick for a favor.

The Haves and the Have Nots

Benny comes back to Candace’s room, and Charles says, hey. He came to speak to Candace. Benny says, she ain’t talking to nobody, but Candace says, she’ll be fine. Benny asks what Charles wants, and she says, Benny, go. He asks if she’s sure, and she tells him, what did she say? Benny leaves, and Landon closes the door. Charles says, that will be all, but Candace says, no. She needs to talk to Landon. Why does he have a reporter talking to her mother? He asks what she means, and she tells him, don’t play. She knows it’s him. He says he didn’t, and she asks if he’s running bullsh*t now. He says, no. He just wants… She asks if he thinks he can force her to talk to Charles. She already told Landon that she doesn’t want to talk to him. Landon says Charles came in with a covert operation just to see her. Please talk to him. She says, no, and asks Charles if that’s supposed to make her feel special. He asks her to let him talk. He was wrong, and he’s so sorry. Landon was just doing what he asked. She says, okay, and Charles says he wishes he could take everything back, but she says he can’t. She heads for the door, and Landon asks where she’s going. She doesn’t answer, and walks out.

Charles tells Landon, let her go. Landon says Charles put in lot of effort; she can’t just walk away. Charles repeats, let her go, and Landon says he’s sorry. Charles says, she doesn’t want to talk yet, and Landon says he can see that. Charles says, it’s not a bad thing, and Landon asks why that is. Charles says, that means she still cares. Landon doesn’t follow, and Charles says, when she’s yelling and screaming, that means she still has passion for him. When she’s quiet, and doesn’t want to see him, she’s processing how she feels. Landon says Charles knows her well, and Charles says he’s learned her over time. Landon asks what they do now, and Charles says, go back to Detroit, and finish packing for DC. Landon gives Charles his baseball cap, and says, the Secret Service has the service elevator waiting. He adjusts Charles’s hat so that it shades his face more, and says he’s sorry Charles came all that way for nothing. Charles says, it wasn’t for nothing. They just have to keep wearing her down. It’s okay. Landon says, yes, sir, Charles says, let’s go, and they leave.

Veronica’s doorbell rings, and she lets Don in. He asks how she is, and she says, pissed. He asks, why? and she says she’s behind on her loan. He says he’s sorry, and she tells him that her facilities aren’t doing well. He wishes there was something he could do, and she says, there is. He can pay it. he says he doesn’t have the means, but she says he’s done it before. Convince Kathryn to pay it. She’ll get it taken care of next month; she’s selling a building. He says he can’t, and she says he’s played with Kathryn’s money for her for years. He says, this is different, and she says she’s always paid it back, and Kathryn was none the wiser. He says, this is an entirely different situation. He can’t this time. She says he can and he will. He knows what she has on him. He says he’s not in charge; he can’t move a dime. She says, don’t tell her that dumb bitch put Jim in charge. He says, no, and she says, then who? He says, Hanna Young, and she says, the maid? He says, yes, and she says, is the executor? He says, yes, and she says, Hanna can’t even spell executor. He says she can, and it turns out she’s asking all the right questions. It turns out she’s more savvy than they thought. Veronica says, the maid. He’s got to be kidding. He says, perhaps she could talk to Hanna, but she says she’d shoot herself first. He says, there’s nothing he can do, and she says, then why is she looking at him? Bye. He’s almost out the door, when she tells him to come back. She says, Kathryn made Hanna Young, the maid, the executor. Don says, yeah, and she says Kathryn has lost her damn mind. Does Hanna know about the loan? He says she does, and Veronica asks where the original agreement is. He assumes it’s at Kathryn’s house, and she says, get it. He says he doesn’t know where she’d keep it, and Veronica suggests the bedroom, but he says he can’t. She says, never mind; she’ll get it. Bye. He leaves, and she stands with her hands on her hips, saying, what kind of psychotic bitch makes a maid the executor of an estate? Jail must be getting to her.

Rihanna and Benny walk into Rihanna’s office. She tells him, sorry, and he says, it was a nice place, but out of his price range. She apologizes again, and says she’s been dragging him all over town. She should have been better prepared. He says, it’s all good, and she says just give her one more chance. She’ll find something he likes. He says, okay, bring it, and she thanks him. He says, it’s good to see her smile; that was a real one. She doesn’t get it, and he says, she knows how people have fake smiles; this is real. He tells her, he’s sorry he couldn’t, but she says, it’s all good. If there’s anything else she can answer for him, let her know. He says, now that she mentions it, he would like to ask her something. She asks if it’s a question about a house, and he says, what else would it be about? She says she likes to keep it professional, and he says, as does he, so stop flirting. She says she isn’t; she’s about the job. He says, great, and looks at a picture on her desk. He asks who it is, and she says, her mother. He says Rihanna looks like her, and she says her mother passed away three years ago. He says he’s sorry to hear that, and she says it turned her world upside down. They were pretty close. Benny sets the picture back on her desk, and asks if that’s why she was crying. She says, no. Allergies, remember? He tells her, if she says so. She says she does, and he asks, what happened to her? Rihanna says, she was involved in a car accident. It’s crazy. One day they were arguing about her and her ex, and the next minute, her mother was gone. She didn’t get a chance to say she’s sorry; tell her that she was right. She wishes she’d listened to her. He says, wow. He’s really sorry to hear that. She says, it’s okay. She should get back to work. She’ll call him. He thanks her again, and leaves, but pops back in. He says he really is sorry about her mother, and Rihanna says, the strong, sensitive type. He leaves for real.

Jeffrey is reading when Madison comes home. Madison asks how Jeffrey’s day was, and Jeffrey says he missed Madison. He’s been thinking about him. Madison asks what he was thinking, and Jeffrey says he was thinking they should go out to dinner. He feels like he wants to get to know Madison. Madison says Jeffrey is there all the time, and sleeps in his bed, but Jeffrey says that’s not getting to know him. Madison asks where Colby is, and Jeffrey says he’s not there. Madison wonders what that bitch said, and Jeffrey asks what he means. Madison says Colby said something to get Jeffrey to look at him sideways. Jeffrey says they never talked about the look on his dad’s face, or how Madison was feeling. He doesn’t know anything about Madison’s parents. It will be fun. Madison says, okay, then will Jeffrey tell him what Colby said? Jeffrey tells him, Colby didn’t say anything, but Madison insists he did. Jeffrey says, just go shower. They’ll go to the movies and have dinner. Madison wonders why Jeffrey keeps looking at him. What’s going on? He’s up to something. Jeffrey says he isn’t. Just go shower. Madison asks again where Colby is, and Jeffrey says, he ran out when his phone started going off. Is he on a dating app or something? Madison says Jeffrey has to ask Colby, but Jeffrey says he’s asking Madison. Madison says, it’s not his place to say, and Jeffrey says, he’s an escort. Madison repeats that it’s not his place, and says he has to shower. Jeffrey says, makes sense, and Madison says, no judgements? Jeffrey says, none.

Benny gets in his car, and calls Hanna, who’s going over paperwork at Kathryn’s, which she must be doing 24/7, since it’s the only position we see her in anymore. She asks what he wants, and he says, don’t hang up. He wants her to know he loves her and misses her. She says, okay, and he tells her, don’t be like that. She knows she loves him too. She says she does, and he says, then stop this. They used to talk every day. She says she’s trying to get used to not talking, and he asks, why? She says, those men are going to come for him, and he says he didn’t call for that. She asks why he did. To clear his conscience? He says he called to tell her that he loves her, and she says, how much? More than a million dollars? He says, yes, and she says, then give the money back. He says he’s not doing that, and she says, then they don’t have anything else to talk about. He asks if she’s really going to treat him like this, and she says, like what? A thief? He let his sister talk him into it… He says, he talked her into keeping it, and Hanna says, Candace wants him to think that. Candace has been doing this longer than him; she’s slick. He says, and he’s stupid. She says, not stupid, but he has slow tendencies. He asks if she’s calling him slow, but she tells him, she didn’t say that. She said he has slow tendencies. If he keeps letting his sister lead him, he’s going to end up somewhere bad. She says she has to get back to what she was doing, and he says she’s going regret talking to him like this, but she says he’ll regret it in a million ways. He tells her that he was looking at houses. If she wants to come, him and his slow self will be waiting. She says he’s going to be waiting forever. Bye. Jim comes in, and says, so she really didn’t have anything to do with the money being gone. She says she told him that, and he says he knows now. Her son is all around town, spending his money. She asks, why not let him go? but Jim says he can’t let it go. He’s talking $8 million. Hanna says it’s something he needs to talk to her daughter about. He says he might do more than talk, and she tells him, watch the threats. He says she needs to know something about how this underworld thing works. Does she know the Malones? She says she does, and he says, if he does a favor for the Malones, they do something for him. Candace did a favor for the Malones, and they currently have her back. However, he has the sneaking suspicion that Mitch lied to Hanna about protecting her children. Once he verifies that, it could get interesting around there. It’s great that he knows she had nothing to do with it. David was right, and Kathryn was right about her. They say – he promises, this is good – they say she’s a good person, a rare bird. David really likes her. He’s a good man in spite of his friends, make no mistake, but her, she is a rare bird; a good person in a sea of sh*tty people. One who always tries to do the right thing. She says, yes she is, and yes she does. He asks if it’s hard to do, and she says, no, it’s not. He should try it. He laughs, and says he’s had too many dances with the devil to change partners now. She tells him, go ahead and do that, and he says she’s not going to try and convert him. She says, no, and he says she’s not going to tell him Jesus can save his soul, and make him whole. She says, He can, and Jim says, Jesus can forgive him? She says, He can do that too. Jim says, even him? and she says, yes, even him. He says he’s sorry. It just doesn’t seem fair. She asks, how’s that? and he says he’s done a lot of bad things; hurt a lot of people. She says, that, he has, and he says, if all someone like him has to do is repent, it doesn’t seem fair. Hanna says, know what? She’d never shed blood for anyone but her kids, so she doesn’t judge it, but he knows how much she loves them. He says, tight, but right. Praise, Jesus. She says, yes, praise Him. Keep on playing. He says he’s not playing. One of these days, the angel and the devil are going to have a showdown. She asks if he’s talking about her daughter, and he says he’s talking about her. He wants to see what she’s got. He laughs, and gets up. She says, okay, and he leaves. She smiles a little, looks up, and shakes her head, saying, You don’t want it.

Mitch walks into the Iron Bone, where Sandy is sitting at the bar looking at his phone. Mitch asks what Sandy is up to, and Sandy asks what Mitch is doing there. Vinny has been asking a lot of questions. Mitch says, as always, and Sandy tells him, he’s not supposed to say anything. Mitch asks what the questions were about, and Sandy says, they were just questions. Mitch asks if Sandy wants to tell him what he’s talking about, and Sandy says, if Mitch did something, tell him. Mitch says he didn’t do nothing, and Sandy says, Vinny was asking questions about him and the Black kid. Mitch asks, why? but Sandy doesn’t know. Mitch asks where Vinny is, and Sandy says, he’s not there. Mitch says, call him, but Sandy says, first of all, he’s not supposed to be talking to Mitch, and Vinny won’t answer anyway. Mitch wonders if Vinny is banging his trailer ho’s, and Sandy says, he’s mad about something. Mitch says again, he didn’t do nothing, and Sandy is just sitting there on his lazy ass. Sandy says he’s watching the bar, and Mitch laughs. He says, watching what? There ain’t nobody there; business sucks. He looks over Sandy’s shoulder, and says, what is this? Is he watching porn? Sandy says, no; a sex tape. Mitch laughs again, and says his skinny ass made a sex tape? Sandy says, he didn’t; it’s Rihanna. Mitch asks if Sandy recorded her without her knowing, and Sandy says, she’s his girl. Mitch says, not anymore, but Sandy says, she’ll always be his girl. Mitch says Sandy’s got problems, and Sandy says, whatever. Stop looking at him weird. Mitch says he’s not looking at Sandy weird, and Sandy says Mitch had better get his sh*t straight before he talks to Vinny. Mitch repeats that he didn’t do nothing, and Sandy says, don’t tell Vinny he said anything, or he’ll end up back in the basement.

Mitch calls Benny at the hotel, and asks where he is. Benny tells him, and asks, what’s up? Mitch asks if Benny if his uncle reached out, but Benny says, no. Mitch asks if anybody from his family has contacted Benny, and Benny says, no. Is everything all right? What’s going on? Mitch doesn’t know, and says, Sandy was acting weird. Benny says, about what? but Mitch says he doesn’t know. Benny asks what Mitch thinks it is, but Mitch says he doesn’t know. He said or did something, but he has no idea what. Benny says Mitch covered for him. Could Vinny be mad about that? Mitch says he doesn’t think so, and Benny says, then, what is it? Mitch says Benny knows about his family. He doesn’t ask too many questions. He has no idea, but he thinks he needs to pay someone a visit. Benny asks, who? and Mitch says, Benny’s buddy, Jim Cryer. He needs to give himself a little insurance. When he’s back, he’ll let Benny know.

Benny ponders, when Candace comes back. He asks, what happened? He was worried about her. She says she’s fine, and he says, she disappeared. She says she went for a walk, and Benny asks, what did he say? She says she didn’t let him talk, and Benny says, he came all the way from DC. She says, Detroit. He’s not in the Whitehouse yet. Benny wonders where the bodyguards were, and she says, he wanted to do this on the low. She’s sure they were everywhere. Benny says, damn, and she says she’s his dirty little secret. That’s the way they want her to feel. Benny says he doesn’t know if he would agree. He wouldn’t come all that way. She says she doesn’t get it, and he says, he knows when a dude is in love. Trust him. He knows the feeling. She says she doesn’t want to talk about Charles, and he says she doesn’t have to. But that ain’t gonna stop Charles from coming at her. He’s like she is – a hunter. He knows how she feels; she likes power. She says she doesn’t need that kind. She got millions on her own; she doesn’t need him. Benny says, that’s what makes it easier. If it doesn’t work out, she can take her money, and leave. Candace says she’s getting out of town, and starting over. He’ll have a helluva time trying to find her. Benny asks if she’s sure about that, and she says she is. She tells him that they need to check out, and he says, now she wants to leave. She says, going to a low rent place isn’t a bad idea. He won’t look there. Benny says, don’t count on it.

There’s a knock at Veronica’s door, and she goes to answer it, saying, she’s got to get a maid. She invites Tanner in, and says, well? He says she was right about his brother and the car. The guys told him. He’s sorry. She says, for? and he says, her son. She says she doesn’t have a son, and he says, Jeffrey. She says he’s the little bitch who let Tanner’s brother hit her. Tanner says, he did? and she asks where he thinks Justin got the bruises. He says, she did that? and she laughs. She says, no, but she got someone. She wouldn’t mess up her nails for that little bitch. She doesn’t know what happened to him, and doesn’t care either. Tanner asks what she wants him to do, and she says, call Colby. He says, it’s done, and she says, get him over there. Tanner says, lead him on? He’ll be ready. She says so will she. He thanks her, and says he owes her one, but she says, no. She owes him. He’s former military, right? He’s dealt with explosives? He says, yeah, and she says, actually, she just lost a guy. He asks, what happened? and she says, he went down for a Federal crime. Tanner says, he’s an idiot, and she laughs, saying, she thinks so. She also knows Tanner isn’t. What if she wanted to see someone blown up? He says he can arrange that, and she says she’d love to start life over with no ex-husband and no son. He says he can make that happen for her, and she says, great. He says, one thing at a time, and she says she likes that thinking. She’ll teach that little bitch a lesson first. She puts her arm around him, and says she think they’re going to make a good team. He agrees, and she says, let’s do it. She walks him to the door, and he says, see you later.

At the restaurant, Madison tells Jeffrey, this is nice. Jeffrey says, it’s one of his favorites, and Madison thanks Jeffrey for bringing him there. Why did he? Why is he there? Jeffrey says he wanted to talk to Madison, and Madison says, not long ago, Jeffrey wasn’t interested at all. Was it because Jeffrey saw him naked? Jeffrey says, no. He saw Madison differently. Madison says, okay, they’ll go with that, and Jeffrey says Madison has a beautiful body, and he’s a nice guy. He was wondering why he gave Madison such a hard time when Madison wanted to try and get him… Madison says, in bed? He had Jeffrey’s eyes rolling to the back of his head. Jeffrey laughs, and asks, what the hell was that thing? Madison says, trade secret, and asks how Jeffrey’s dad is. Jeffrey says, that’s another story. Madison says Jeffrey’s dad couldn’t even look at him, and Jeffrey says, him either. Madison laughs, saying, it was kind of funny. His dad will get over it. Jeffrey says, he will. His dad has always been cool, but he never wants his dad to see him like that again. He asks how Madison’s parents are, and Madison says, that’s what they’re doing. Jeffrey says, they’re getting to know each other, and Madison says his parents are salt of the earth republicans. He loves them to death, but they drive him crazy. They don’t see eye to eye. Jeffrey says he’s sorry, but Madison says, it’s okay. They’re amazing people, but they make him want to scream sometimes. Jeffrey says, they’re better than his, and suddenly, Justin walks in and sits at their table, holding a gun.

Justin says he’s not going to hurt Jeffrey, and Jeffrey tells him, put down the gun, but Justin says maybe he’ll hurt Madison. Jeffrey says, Justin… and Justin says, relax. He’s not hurting Jeffrey’s little boyfriend. He looks at Madison, and says he lost everything before of him. Jeffrey says Justin lost everything because of himself. Justin insists he didn’t, and Jeffrey says, give him the gun. Justin tells him, ask; don’t be rude. He doesn’t like Madison. And Madison doesn’t like him, does he? Madison says he doesn’t know Justin, and Justin says he tried to get to know Madison. Madison says he can get someone to talk to Justin, and Justin says that’s exactly what he needs. Jeffrey says Justin should leave, but Madison says, no. Justin asks if Madison wants to protect Jeffrey, but Madison says he’s saying no because this is between Jeffrey and Justin. Justin says he’s staying. So, they had sex. Jeffrey says, no, they didn’t. Just go. Justin says he saw them, and Jeffrey asks, when? Justin says he was watching them with binoculars through the window. He saw their silhouettes having sex. Jeffrey says, okay, yeah, they did, and Justin asks why Jeffrey lied to him. Jeffrey says he didn’t want upset Justin, but Justin says, what upsets him is this; Jeffrey doesn’t like him and doesn’t give a damn about him. That upsets him. He says he told Jeffrey that he wouldn’t shoot him, and Jeffrey tells him, put the gun down.

Justin says, okay, and puts the gun on the table. Madison makes a move, and Justin asks where he’s going, picking the gun back up. Madison says he thinks they should call the police, but Justin says, no. Madison says, yeah, and Justin asks if they smell anything. Jeffrey says, it sure as hell isn’t cologne, and gets up. Justin stands up, and bursts into flames.

Huge question mark over my head…

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

I missed the pre-credit scenes, but here’s what happened. Tracy found Ned comforting a crying Olivia, and Ned told her about the search for Sonny being changed to search and recover. Chase couldn’t sleep, thinking about his dinner with Willow, and Finn saw Alexis at the hospital. He assumed she was there for a meeting, but she said she’d gotten her bandage changed, and didn’t want a lecture. Brando met Jason on the pier, and told Jason that he was late because Cyrus was keeping him on a short leash. Dante, Michael, and Sasha got ready for everyone coming to Sonny’s house. Sam arrived, and Michael told her that he’d suggested Carly take some time alone. In the kitchen, Carly looked at Sonny’s St. Christopher medal, wondering how this happened, and how he was gone. And here we are.

Tracy says she assumes Ned told Olivia about Sonny in a tactless way. Olivia says, he was wonderful. He knows how much Sonny means to her; they grew up together. Willow says she hates to interrupt, and Tracy asks if she’d like to join them on a trip down Olivia’s Memory Lane. Willow tells them, Michael said the family is gathering at Sonny’s, and Olivia tells Ned to get the car. She’ll get the manicotti. She and Ned exchange I love yous, and he closes the door. He tells Tracy, next time, be more careful before she blurts out the first thing that comes to mind. She asks if he’s talking about his drunken tryst with Alexis. Don’t worry. He has no idea the lengths she’ll go to in order to protect his marriage.

Alexis holds out her hand, and tells Finn, steady as a rock. She asks if that satisfies him, and he says, she’s good at faking it; he should know. She says she can’t fake it, but Finn says, the thing about going to meetings and group counseling is, everyone knows the tricks. Alexis says she drinks because it makes her feel good at times. She can manage it. Does he have to make it a crime? He says, it’s a crime to get behind the wheel when you’re drunk. She says she wouldn’t do that, and he asks how she drove off the road then. She says, excellent question. When she gets to the bottom of it, he’ll be the first person who knows. In the meantime, she has a Ride Share. She gets in the elevator.

Molly tells TJ that she was on her way to the law library for a study group, and TJ says he has to get to his shift at the hospital. She says she knows they’re both trying not to hurt each other, so they’re avoiding saying wrong things, but all they’re doing is creating distance. They have to talk, so she’ll go first. She was wrong to sleep with Brando, and not tell him for so long. She thought she was protecting him, but honestly, she was just protecting herself. If she could go back… He says, enough.

Jason says, Brando asked for a meeting. Why? Brando says he wants to explain why he was at the pier. Jason says he had a chance to eliminate Cyrus, and Brando saved Cyrus’s life. Brando says he couldn’t let Jason kill Cyrus, so he texted Carly to bring some muscle and force a stalemate. Jason says Carly is the only reason he let Cyrus live. If he’d killed Cyrus in front of her, she could have been charged as an accessory. Brando says he didn’t have a choice. Cyrus knew the truth about Dev. His mother snitched, and Cyrus probably gave her a nice stockpile in return. Jason asks if Cyrus told him that, and Brando tells him, Cyrus said he left a document with his lawyer. If he dies, the Feds will implicate all of them; Jason, him, Sonny, Carly, even Josslyn. That’s why he couldn’t let Jason kill Cyrus. Jason says he appreciates the warning, but no matter how well-intentioned, Brando took an unacceptable risk. Regardless of the situation, never involve Carly again. Brando says he’s got it; anything else? Jason says, just stay close to Cyrus, and keep making himself indispensable. Brando says, until…? and Jason says, until he tells Brando different.

Dante tells Sam, if he’d known what little time he was going to have with his father, he’d have come back sooner. Sam wonders why we never appreciate our loved ones until they’re gone. Not that she ever wanted Julian to be a part of her life and the kids’ lives, but maybe with time, things could have changed. It’s just such a waste. Dante says, if she wants to talk… and she says she’ll let him know. Sasha wonders if Carly wishes she could just hole up in her room, but Michael says that’s not his mom’s style. His dad left behind a lot people who loved him. She needs to be strong for the rest of them. Sasha asks, who’s strong for her? Carly comes in, and says she’s glad they’re here. She knows Sonny would be happy that everyone is there for him. They’re going to hug and tell stories, and going to drink his scotch. They’re not going to ask why he was taken so soon. She toasts to Sonny, for living life on his terms and for giving so much to every single one of them. They all raise their glasses to Sonny.

Sonny lies unconscious. He feels the shadow of someone standing over him. He looks up, and sees Mike in his sharp cap.

TJ says Molly made one mistake, and it never would have happened if his mom hadn’t lied. Molly says, it’s easy to blame his mom, but that’s not entirely fair. His mom’s lies might have been the reason she slept with Brando, but his mom has nothing to do with her keeping it a secret for so long. He says, there’s a lot of blame to go around, starting with Cyrus. Cyrus kidnapping him is what started the whole thing. Molly says she refuses to let Cyrus be the reason she loses him. She wonders if they can’t find their way past the lies, and back to each other; the way it used to be. TJ says, if the way it used to be was all right, all the mistakes and lies wouldn’t have come between them.

On the phone with Anna, Finn says he’s fine with Maxie handling all the wedding decisions, if at the end, he and Anna are married. Chase comes by, and Finn tells her, Chase is playing charades. He’s making gestures. He wants to talk. He tells her goodbye, and asks Chase to tell him again how he got talked into a double wedding. Chase says, don’t look to him for sympathy. Finn has nothing to complain about. He’s marrying the woman he loves, and she’s not married to someone else. Finn asks how his dinner with Willow went, and Chase says, they kissed.  

Carly asks if Olivia brought lasagna, and Olivia says, manicotti. Sonny was always after her recipe, but she never gave it to him. Willow takes the dish to put with the rest of the food, and Dante hugs Olivia. She thanks him for coming home when he did, and he says he was just telling Sam, he wishes it had been sooner. She says, he’s there now, and thanks him.  

Michael tells Sasha that she’s gone above and beyond. She was there late last night, and showed up first thing this morning. She says she can stay, but he tells her that she needs time to take care of herself. She tells him, if he needs anything, let her know. He thanks her, they hug, and she leaves. Sam tells Carly to let her know if she needs to go somewhere quiet, or scream, or break something. Whatever she needs, Sam can take care of it. Carly thanks her, and says she just needs to be there with the people Sonny loved, and who loved him. Jason walks in.

Sonny asks where he is, and Mike says, halfway between where left and where he’s going. Mike puts his coat over Sonny, and says, better? He says Sonny isn’t ready to keep traveling after all. Maybe he’s still able to go back where he came from. Only time will tell. Mike looks at Sonny’s wrist, and says, nice watch. Looks like it stopped.

Molly says, she and TJ have been together since high school. It said they were the most likely to be made for each other in the yearbook. TJ says, everyone took it for granted that they’d be together forever, but forever is a long time. Maybe Molly got bored. Maybe there isn’t the same excitement in the relationship. She says, that’s not why she turned to Brando. She’d mistakenly believe TJ abandoned her. She was angry, not bored. He asks if she’s sure, and she says she still thinks he’s as sexy and as exciting as when she first set eyes on him. She wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Words aren’t enough; let her show him. Let’s go ahead with the commitment ceremony. What does he say? He says, no.  

At the hospital, Sasha sees Brando, and asks if she didn’t warn him about violating the penal code against stalking. He says he’s not stalking her, and she asks why he’s creeping up on her. He says he’s not; he’s going to meet his boss. Cyrus has an office in the hospital. She says, the same boss who gave her the drugs that almost killed her? and he says, that’s the one. She wants him to explain why the nice guy who treated her to hot chocolate is working for a world class bastard.

Ned gets a drink, and Tracy asks if he’s bracing himself before talking to Lois. He says, she’s going to be shattered to learn about Sonny. He and Lois were close, and Brook adored him. Tracy says she doesn’t think anyone is going to shed tears for Julian, except Leo, who’s too young to realize he’s better off. That reminds her. Is Ned planning on adopting Leo soon? He says, it’s already in the works, and she asks if he’s happy. He says he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. Alexis is in freefall, and Olivia keeps trying to help. It’s only a matter of time. She tells him, stop worrying about Alexis; she won’t be doing any drunken talking. He asks how she can be so sure.

Sam approaches Jason, and asks how he’s doing. He says he’s been doing business, and she says, so he doesn’t have to think about his loss? How’s that working for him? He says, not too good, and she says she keeps expecting Sonny to walk in, and he says he knows how much she loved love him. She says, loves. Just because he’s gone, that didn’t stop the feelings. Willow comes back, and Michael says he didn’t know she was there. How’s Wiley? She says, Wiley misses his daddy. How is he? and please don’t say fine. He says he’s going back and forth between being numb and wanting to punch a wall. He sees how his mom is holding it together, and he’s trying to follow her lead. Willow asks how Carly does it with the incredible strain she’s under. Michael says he tries to comfort her, but she pushes aside her own grief to make sure everyone else is okay. Willow says she can stay long as he likes; his mom should be his priority. If she’d known last night, she would have canceled dinner with Chase. He says he’s glad she didn’t, and asks, how was it? She says, it was nice…

Jason tells Carly, he spoke to Brando, and she asks if he can fill her in. He says, not right now, and she asks him to come to the kitchen.

Mike helps Sonny to a seated position, and asks if he’s ever heard the expression time stands still. It seems to be happening for Sonny. That means he still has a choice. Sonny asks, what choice? and Mike says, well, he can lay back down, close his eyes, and never open them again, or he can do it the hard way; keep that ticker going on a tick at a time. He can get up on his feet, and walk one step at a time. Sonny coughs, and says he can’t, and Mike says, so he’s quitting? He’s down for the count? They’ve got a word for guys like that – dead.

Molly asks if TJ has changed his mind, and doesn’t want to commit to a future with her. He says he can’t stand in front of a bunch of their family and friends, and say vows when they still haven’t figured out where they are or where they’re going. That doesn’t mean his feelings have changed. Molly says, they haven’t? and he says he still wants to spend the rest of his life with her. If she wants to. She throws herself into his arms, and says, of course (🍷) she still wants to.

Brando says if he hadn’t been working for Cyrus, he couldn’t have rushed Sasha to the ER when she collapsed. She says he’s not answering her question, and he asks how the drug counseling is going. She says she gets it; stop snooping and he’ll quit nagging. He says he does have one question. Does she still have her job at Deception? She says, barely, but her security increases with each counseling session. She’s learned a lot. He asks if she’d care to share, and she says, one thing is that there’s a difference between an addict and a substance abuser. He asks which category she’s in, and she says, substance abuser. She can say no to using it again. He asks if she could stop once she started.

Finn says, dinner and a kiss; why isn’t Chase celebrating?  Chase says, one dinner, and one kiss. What if Willow goes back to Michael, her husband? Can Finn possibly relate? Finn says, possibly.   

Carly asks Jason, what’s going on? and he says, Brando told him that Cyrus has insurance. She asks, what kind? and he says, Cyrus has a document stating information about Dev’s illegal status, and that all of them, even Josslyn, conspired to create a false identity. She asks how Cyrus knew about Dev, and he says, Gladys. Brando thinks Cyrus paid her for the information. Carly says, of course (🍷) he did; that selfish, greedy woman. He says, if Cyrus dies, the document goes to the Feds. She says, Ric set up the fake ID; Cyrus can’t have any proof. Jason says, it doesn’t matter. The Feds will open an investigation as soon as they see the name. And don’t think they won’t threaten Josslyn. She asks if he’s saying they can’t touch Cyrus, but he tells her that he’s saying they can’t kill Cyrus. There are other ways to stop him.

Mike tells Sonny, go. Leave in peace. It’s the easy way out. Anyone could tell him that who’s had to fight for every breath or every precious tick of the clock, every sunrise and sunset. As long as there’s an ounce of breath in Sonny’s body, he has to live. Sonny tells him, who says? and Mike says, Sonny does.

TJ tells Molly, he’s going to jump in the shower before he goes to the hospital. He goes into the bathroom, and she smiles. She gets in with him, and they get busy.

Sasha asks if Brand would care to join her in counseling to kick his addiction to Cyrus. He says, it’s not an addiction; he can quit anytime. She says, but he’s not ready? and he says he has to get going. He doesn’t want to be late. She says, in other words, she’s snooping again. It meant a lot when he opened up about his own battle with drugs. She might not have gotten straight without him talking to her. He tells her not to underestimate herself. He has the feeling she’s a fighter, like him. She says, this time he fought for her, and thanks him. He says he’s available to talk, but she says he’s still working for a drug trafficker. He says, life is full of contradictions, but she says, she can’t risk being seen with him.

Ned asks why Tracy is so sure Alexis isn’t going to slip up around Olivia, and Tracy says, hopefully, Alexis is on her way to rehab… or jail. Either way, she’s not roaming the bars in Port Charles, and will have no opportunity to shoot her mouth off to Olivia or anyone else.

Alexis shows up at Sonny’s, and tells Sam that she came to pay her respects. Sam says she thought Alexis assumed there was liquor there. Olivia comes out, and says Carly will be glad Alexis stopped by. Alexis says, unlike her daughter. She’s mad because Alexis didn’t accept the DA’s deal. Olivia says, they made a deal? and Alexis says, it was a generous deal; if she completes rehab, she gets a suspended 5 year sentence. Olivia asks why she turned it down, and Alexis says, something is strange. Something about that night seems wrong.     

Carly and Jason go to the kitchen where the bowl of moss lives. She says, Diane called, and asks if he’d go over the paperwork Sonny left with her. He says, sure. The way the finances are set up, the coffee business and real estate stay in the US. The other businesses are offshore, and they never move between. The US businesses have to be clean holdings. She says, makes sense, and he says, they split the profits 50/50, except Puerto Rico and South America; that’s all Sonny’s, so she’ll retain that. It’s what Sonny intended. She asks, what about the waterfront? With Sonny gone, won’t Cyrus and the other families see an opening to move their merchandise through Port Charles? He tells her that she doesn’t need to worry about that, but she says she’s really worried.

Mike tells Sonny, never give up; never give in. They’re waiting for him. He helps Sonny up, and Sonny asks, who? Mike says, home… home… home… home… home… Sonny stands, and says, we did it, but Mike is gone. Sonny looks up, and says, thank you.  

Brando sees TJ, and asks if TJ wants to grab a beer and catch up. TJ says he has a better idea, and punches Brando in the face.

Chase tells Finn, whatever does or doesn’t happen, he’s glad he was honest with his feelings. Finn says, good, and Chase says they must get the honesty gene from dad. Finn guesses so, and says Chase is a good human. He doesn’t want to rush Chase, but he has to see a patient. Chase says before he forgets, their dad wants a chance to win his money back. Finn says, poker night part two? and Chase says, maybe this time, Anna and his mom could play. Their dad taught his mom everything he knows about Texas Hold ‘Em.

Ned says he’d think Tracy was almost happy that Alexis had too much to drink and drove off the road. She says she wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and he says, but she’d be glad to take advantage. She says, if Alexis’s misfortune happens to be in the best interest of her son and his family, who is she to question it? and leaves.  

Olivia says she understands why Alexis’s memory is hazy; she was well-lubricated when she got behind the wheel, and drove off the road. Alexis says she didn’t drive to the MetroCourt; Tracy did. Olivia says, imagine if Tracy hadn’t been there. Alexis could have hit another car or a bystander. She should thank her lucky stars. Alexis says Tracy has never so much as uttered a kind word to her. There must be something in it for her… She guesses there’s a first time for everything, and gets up

Dante says Sonny was crazy about Sam, and she was crazy about him too. She says she’s proud of Dante, battling his demons, and he says, sometimes you beat the demons, and sometimes the demons beat you.

Carly tells Jason, Cyrus can’t do anything while they have Florence, and they can’t do anything to him because of the document. He tells her, stop saying we. He can’t risk her being charged as an accessory. The only way she can help is to stay out of it. She says she’ll do that on one condition. She has to know everything. He says again that he’s not making her an accessory, but she says she doesn’t need to know everything about the business itself. Not knowing is torture, and she doesn’t want it to be like it was with Sonny. Sonny just disappeared and didn’t come back.

Sonny says, come back. He looks at his watch, which is now running. He sits on a convenient rock, when a hiker comes along. He asks what Sonny is doing there. It’s freezing. Sonny says he doesn’t know.  

Tomorrow, Molly tells Brando that they both know why he did it, Trina owes someone an apology, Jax tells Josslyn that she doesn’t know the lengths he’d go to protect her, and Ava thinks she and Carly should address the issue head-on.

Below Deck

When we last left, guest Delores was drunk off her ass, and decided to jump off the boat into the water in the dark.

Francesca is shocked, and Captain Lee is not too happy. He says Delores was drunk, stepped over the line, and he’s not putting up with this. They’re heading back to the dock. A soaking wet Delores finally comes back, and tries to say she was told she could go swimming, but no one is having it. The captain says, they’re done, and walks away, saying he’s effing hot. He’ll drag her back to the dock, and leave her ass on the curb. He’s not taking that risk; not on his boat. Primary Tina says they’ll take her to bed, and he says, get her ass put away now.

Rachel asks Francesca, what just happened? and Francesca tells her, the captain told a guest not to go in the water, and she effing jumped in. In Rachel’s interview, she says, there are DILLIGAFs all over the boat. Captain Lee tells himself to pull it together, and Tina says, they’re all in trouble. The captain radios Eddie, who asks if he wants someone to stay outside of Delores’s door. He tells Eddie to have someone stay on the stairs. Mark tells Delores, she f***ed up their whole charter. Francesca radios Eddie, and they figure out a watch schedule. Izzy radios Eddie, saying she heard a bunch of commotion. Eddie says they had a bit of an incident, and she asks if he needs help. James helps Elizabeth take down the decorations, since Great Gatsby night is officially over. She puts a bowler hat on him. Eddie tells Izzy, a guest drank too much, and Francesca adds, now they have to take turns making sure she doesn’t leave. Eddie suggests they bullrush Delores if she comes out. He wakes up Rob, and explains what happened. He tells Rob that his shift is at 3:30. Francesca makes a schedule with the stews.   

Delores’s room is quiet. James asks if Elizabeth wants to go to his bunk for a cuddle. They cover themselves with the blankets, but I don’t think cuddling is what they have in mind, and I don’t want to know. Izzy sits on Delores watch in the lounge, messing with her phone and eating chips on automatic pilot. Rob texts Izzy, saying he’s going to relieve her at 3:30. In Izzy’s interview, she says she’s effing sick, and all she wants to do is go to bed, but there’s no way she could sleep. It smells like a sweaty, manky hostel. It’s feral. Elizabeth apologizes to Izzy, and jets. Izzy tells James, no f***ing in the bunk underneath her. He says he thought Elizabeth would be gone in five minutes; she was just there for a cuddle. Izzy asks why it smells revolting if they were just cuddling. Eww!

Ashling tells Francesca that she’s on morning Delores watch, and Francesca radios the captain, saying, the problem child has not risen. He says he’s decided they’re going to go, and sighs, adding he hasn’t decided how to do it. He needs to chat with them, and see if they’re willing to rearrange their priorities. Francesca tells the primaries to see Captain Lee, who asks how they’re doing. Tina says, not so happy, and the captain says, Delores has got to go. Mark agrees it’s the best call, and says, she knows better. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says, there’s only one f***-up. The others shouldn’t be punished. As long as they’re good with it, Delores is toast.

Rachel laughs about the whole thing, and Mark goes to see Delores. He asks how she is, and she says, fabulous. I’m not sure if that’s meant sarcastically or she’s just clueless. He says he talked to the captain… and she says it’s because she went swimming. He says, it’s because she went when the captain told her not to. Delores says she thought there was no such thing as no on a super yacht, but Francesca says, it’s a safety issue. They say yes as much as possible on a super yacht, but safety is paramount. In Francesca’s interview, she says, drunk or not, you don’t go swimming at night. She talks about working on a yacht in the south of France where a deckhand jumped into the water at night, and never returned. They looked all night in their tenders, and never found him. Mark says the captain has decided to get her off the yacht now, and Delores says, okay. The captain radios the crew that they’re waiting on one departure. When it happens, he’ll pull out. (That’s what she said.) Delores says she’ll be ten minutes.

Packing in record time, probably because she never unpacked, Delores tells Mark, have fun. She gets into the tender, with engineer Zack driving, and the crew is like, bye, Felicia Delores, as Captain Lee looks at her grimly. Mark says they were having a great night, then it got cut off. They came to have fun, and Delores was a fun wrecker. The captain tells them that they’ll be moving to a new anchorage, and getting a new perspective. In the tender, Delores asks if it wouldn’t be ironic if she jumped in the water. And she does. Because she’s apparently batsh*t crazy. Zack calls Captain Lee, who says, she hopped off the tender? Goddammit. Mark says, no way, and the captain says, son of a bitch.

No one can believe it. Zack says he’s picking her up now, and everyone is dying laughing, except the captain and Eddie. Rachel says she’s going to burn her bacon, and dashes back to the galley. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says he’s never been big on I told you so, but he called this one right. She’s cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Rachel tells Francesca, the breakfast special for today is French toast, and tomorrow she’s doing eggs Benedict. Eddie asks Izzy how she slept, and she says she’s in a grumpy-ass mood. Ashling tells Francesca about the cuddling in Izzy’s cabin, and Izzy tells Eddie about it, while James snoozes away. The captain heads for Dickerson Bay, and Francesca tells Izzy that she needs to be rested. She knows Izzy isn’t feeling well.

Eddie wakes James, and the guests gather for breakfast. Elizabeth updates Izzy that Delores is gone, and asks how she’s feeling. Izzy says she’s feeling grumpy, and ready to kill someone. Alrighty then. Rob wonders why everyone is in a good mood, and Francesca tells Elizabeth to start on the master. Francesca wants to talk to Eddie, so they go somewhere private. She tells him that James and Elizabeth taking over Izzy’s cabin wasn’t acceptable. She can’t deal with Elizabeth, and has given her too many chances. She can’t keep following up, and wants to talk to Captain Lee. In Eddie’s interview, he says, there’s blood in the water. Francesca is on the warpath. Eddie tells her, before she goes to the captain, let him have a word with him.

The guests all talk about what happened, and Mark thinks they’re better off without Delores. In Francesca’s interview, she says, the guests are nice now that Delores has left; they’re pleasant and polite. Maybe the captain should threaten to cancel every charter. They’d definitely get more sleep. Rachel makes up a song about salsa verde, and Francesca asks Ashling to help with cabins. Rob tests the slide, and Eddie says they’re good to go. Francesca calls the provisioner, and says, the guests have requested horseback riding. Izzy looks away from James, and Rob asks if tension is in the air. In his interview, he says he and James are like an old married couple. He figured he could look forward to having that kind of relationship.

In her interview, Izzy says she’s tired, and trying to ignore everything. She says, when she was little, she begged her parents for a pony. Eddie asks Izzy how it’s going with James, and she says she’s a little pissed. Eddie tells her that he’s going to have a conversation with James and Elizabeth about keeping work and pleasure separate. He tells James to be nice to Izzy. The guests use the water toys, then get ready to go to the beach. James asks if he can blame Rob, and in Rob’s interview, he says he has two older brothers. They put him in a suitcase, and left him in the park. It’s nice to have a brotherly relationship with James. The guests take the tender to the beach, where they’re met by a guide with ponies.  

Eddie notices a wing mirror is missing from one of the jet skis. James says, a guest came in too hard. In Eddie’s interview, he says the guests are how he thought they would be. He can fix it, but it sucks. Izzy feeds a pony an apple, and gets on. They all ride down the beach, and one of the guests says this was on their bucket list. Francesca tells Rachel that the guests want a seafood extravaganza, and in her interview, Rachel says she loves that word. Elizabeth starts to iron, and the ironing board falls from underneath her, reminding me of how kids used to set the lunch tables in junior high, so they would fall as soon as there was enough weight on them. Then everyone would applaud.

The guests return, and Ashling sets the table for lunch. Francesca goes over the dinner menu with the guests, and Tina says, if the captain would like to join them, he’s more than welcome. I’m sure that’s very high on his list of things he never wants to do again, but Francesca says she’ll tell him. She lets Captain Lee know the guests would like him to have dinner with them, and in his interview, he says he doesn’t want them to feel like he’s holding them responsible because of someone’s bad behavior. He’ll put a smile on his face and suck it up. That’s why he gets paid the big bucks. For his ability to suck it up.

Francesca asks to meet with James and Elizabeth. Eddie is there too, and Elizabeth says she feels like she’s in trouble. Francesca says, that’s why they’re having this chat, and Eddie says they have to make sure they compartmentalize their time for work, and their personal time. Francesca says they were disrupted last night with crazy stuff, and ended up having to do shift work. Elizabeth and James took advantage of that, and disrupted another crew member. She’s happy they’re spending time together, but don’t let it affect the working environment. In his interview, Eddie say, look how far he’s come. Now he’s giving advice on hooking up on the boat, when a few years ago, he was hooking up on the boat. We flash back to Rocky in her mermaid tail. He says, you shouldn’t mess with people’s sleep and personal space. They got called into the principal’s office. If that doesn’t work, they start chopping. Talk, then chop.

Tina puts her makeup on, and says, it’s so fun. Ashling (I assume) outdid herself with the nautical dinner décor, which looks amazing, although it’s a personal favorite of mine. Elizabeth asks if she should ignore James, and he says, probably. She says she’ll keep it serious, and he asks if she wants to go for a drink on their night off. In his interview, he says, their secret is out. He and Elizabeth are dating. They’ll go out for a few drinks, and if it ends at breakfast, good. He doesn’t care what they say. Francesca radios Rachel, and says, the guests are in place. In Rachel’s interview, she says, the dishes are amazing because… extravaganza. Eddie tells the captain that the guests are waiting on him, and Captain Lee says, bastards. Rachel tells Francesca that she’s ready to roll. The captain thanks the guests for having him again, and Francesca pops some champagne. I’m surprised they’re not apologizing all over the place. In her interview, Rachel says she doesn’t like James. Not a fan. He doesn’t do much, but stand there holding a towel. He’s the last person Elizabeth should fraternize with – a douche. Eddie tells Izzy that she’s relieved of her command, and she goes to bed. The food looks fabulous, with endless platters of various seafood being served. In Captain Lee’s interview, he says he can think of a million things he’d rather be doing, but Jesus Christ, he’s never seen so many dead lobsters in one spot. This extravaganza definitely has the vaganza. The guests seem thrilled, and keep saying how much they love it.

Francesca asks Elizabeth if she’s okay, and Elizabeth says her feet are killing her, but she wants to just get stuff done. Francesca says, if she needs to sit for fifteen minutes, do it. Elizabeth joins James and Rob at a table on deck, and James tells Rob, it’s a Romeo and Juliet story; the interior and the exterior. He tells Elizabeth that Francesca is a demon. In Elizabeth’s interview, she says she can’t win with Francesca. She’d like to get along and be happy, but at this point, she’s like, just don’t fire me. James and Rob put the covers on the deck furniture, and Francesca tells Elizabeth to let her know next time she decides to take a break. Elizabeth tries to say something, and Francesca says, stop talking when she’s talking. Elizabeth says, sorry, which I’m sure is only a formality.

A guest spills her martini glass, and the captain says, that’s alcohol abuse. She says she’s not abusing it, but it’s a waste. Izzy lies in her bunk, and Francesca asks if Rob is sticking around after the charter. He says he thinks he’s doing some traveling, and she asks if he’s going to Canada. Aren’t his parents there? He barely answers her, and in her interview, she says she had high hopes when they met, but talking to him is like having a conversation about nothing. She’s not into it. The captain thinks the guests are going to bed soon, which is a good thing. Izzy feels like she’s turning into big pile of rotting sh*t. Elizabeth kisses James, and he jokes that it doesn’t feel as good as when Rob did it yesterday. I think he’s joking…

In the morning, Francesca tells the guests that the special is eggs Benedict, and asks if they’d like mimosas. Izzy says she’s feeling worse. She has a sore throat, she’s congested, and she’s run down. Eddie says, that settles it. Stay down. He wakes James up, and tells Izzy, get in bed and stay there. In her interview, Izzy says she doesn’t want to, but her body is broken, and she needs rest. Thank you, Eddie. Eggs Benedict is a favorite of mine, and Rachel’s spin on it looks incredible. Eddie tells Captain Lee that Izzy is sick, and he told her to go to bed. The captain tells him to put her in the guest room. He can’t have people dropping like flies, and doesn’t need the whole crew coming down with it, and it possibly affecting the guests. In his interview, he says they know it’s not coronavirus, since there isn’t one case on the island, but they are taking proper precautions. He tells Eddie, the hits just keep coming. He wants to get underway, and Eddie gives James and Rob instructions about the fenders.

The crew gets in their whites, and the guests’ luggage is put on the dock. The captain calls everyone to the aft deck to say goodbye and good luck to the guests. James says he needs an alcoholic beverage, and Elizabeth says, definitely. Tina says, it was one helluva trip. They loved the food, and the crew went the extra mile to make up for their first night. We flash back to the insanity that was Delores, and she says she’s so sorry everyone was affected by it. She hands Captain Lee the tip envelope, and says she hopes they enjoy it. They worked hard for it. Francesca tells Ashling and Elizabeth that Izzy isn’t well, so she’s moving to the guest cabin, and they’ll also sterilize Izzy’s cabin. Eddie tells the deckhands to get in their blues, and bust it out. James asks if Eddie if he can take Elizabeth out for the day, and Eddie tells him, sure, after work. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Say no more.   

Elizabeth says she thinks Izzy will feel better in the guest cabin, and Eddie tells Izzy that she’s going to quarantine there. She gets into the real bed, and it must feel great after that bunk. Captain Lee radios for the crew to be in the crew mess in five. He tells them, it was quite a charter. Francesca says, Delores was crazy, and the captain says, she was a handful, to say the least, but they handled it well. The tip is a disappointing $16,790 (they couldn’t even round that up?), or approximately $1400 each. In Rachel’s interview, she thinks Delores was supposed to kick in money, but f*** it. If I had been one of the other guests, I would have shaken it out of her before she left. The captain tells James to give Izzy her cut, and says the deckhands nailed the docking. He tells Rachel that her food was over the top again, and suggests they take tomorrow off. Everyone is ecstatic, and he says he’s arranged for them to go to a beach club called Catherine’s, where they can eat, drink, and be merry. In James’s interview, he says, drinking, sunbathing, and listening to music. That’s it for him.

Rachel says they have two options; they can bring some food in or cook it themselves on the barbecue. Rob says, whatever is less work in the end. Elizabeth and James are teased about going on a date, and in Francesca’s interview, she says she’s glad. She’s been babysitting, and she’s too old for that. She needs a break. Elizabeth asks Francesca if it’s okay, and Francesca sarcastically says, no; she must work all the time. Ashling helps Elizabeth with her hair, and in James’s interview, he says, with most girls, there’s an emotional wall up on the first date, but he’s not getting those vibes. They like each other, so they’ll see where it goes. Eddie tells James that he wants Elizabeth home at a decent hour. He asks what Captain Lee is doing, and the captain says, not much. Elizabeth and James go to a restaurant, and start off with Long Island ice tea. They discuss cooking, while the crew drinks on the boat. Rachel dares Eddie to do an impression of a goat, and he does, but it looks more like a donkey to me.  

James asks Elizabeth what she did before she was working on boats, and she says her life wasn’t consistent after high school. He says, that’s not good, but she says it led her there. She’s glad they met. She doesn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t there. He says, it’s been fun, and asks if she wants to go back. When they get back to the boat, he asks if she wants to socialize or stay away, and she says, stay away. Rachel does an impression of James, and James suggests he and Elizabeth use the guest cabin, as long as the crew doesn’t find out. Rachel continues to drink. I guess it’s a different guest cabin, since they didn’t walk in on Izzy. Lots of noises come from behind the closed door, and again, I don’t want to know.

The next morning. Rachel is wearing sunglasses. She says she’s never hung over; she keeps the party going. In her interview, she says, don’t be jealous. She might look like sh*t, but she doesn’t feel like sh*t. She’s still drunk from the night before. Izzy comes down, and Eddie asks how she’s feeling. She says she’s still tired, and should probably rest more, but she doesn’t want to stay horizontal anymore. Eddie tells her, no drinking, and they all head out, including Izzy. The captain looks for snacks in the crew mess. In the taxi, Elizabeth says she needs an emotional support animal, and Rob says she has James. They get out at the beach club, Rachel zigzags to the alcohol, saying she’s going to double fist that sh*t. Back at the boat, Captain Lee says the pizza is talking to him, but he can’t. Rob and Francesca get in the water, and Francesca finds a sea urchin. The crew soaks up some sun on lounge chairs, and peruses the cocktail menu. Rachel talks nonsense, and then snoozes.

Rob says he’s grateful for the day off. If they’re going to day drink, and take a nap, this is the spot. Rachel wakes up, and staggers to the stage where a band is getting ready. Eddie doesn’t want to look, and Rachel says, bleepity-bleep-bleep-bleep. She says she wants dirty, nasty-ass music, and Izzy says, get off the effing stage. Francesca says she’s going to have to get Rachel off, and goes up to the microphone. Rachel tells the band to do Walking After Midnight; google it. Francesca says Rachel’s name in the microphone to get her attention. In Eddie’s interview, he says, there are two rules; don’t embarrass yourself, and don’t embarrass the boat. He’s not dealing with it. Francesca asks if Rachel wants to go home, and Rachel tells the band, sorry. She didn’t mean to be a douche.

Next time, Eddie tells Captain Lee that the chef has a difficult time playing with others, Rachel tells James to s*ck her d*ck, the new guests bring a teacup Yorkie named Gigi, and Francesca thinks the captain should get a doctor.

It’s like the end of an era. I loved all the spy stuff with Sean, Tiffany, and the Scorpios back in the 90s.
