What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Jason beings Scout and Danny to the hospital. Scout wants to show Sam her costume and Danny just wants to see her.

Alexis brings Sam some candy, and Sam asks her to remind Dante to get some more for the trick-or-treaters. Alexis says, both she and Dante bought some, and now they have 60 pounds of it. She wants to know Sam’s secret. She can put herself together in a minute or sixty, but Sam looks so good after surgery. She’s glowing.

Trina stops by Portia’s office and says she’s heading to school. Portia asks how it is being back, and Trina asks if the rumors are true that Heather left Port Charles. Portia says, yes, and Trina wonders if Portia had something to do with it.

On the phone, Willow says, Michael hasn’t come home and she’s worried. Call her back. There’s a knock at the door and it’s creeper Drew. She asks why he would come here.

Sasha sits up in bed and remembers being at the bar. She looks next to her, and Michael rolls over. (Rut-roh.)

Cody is sleeping on Maxie’s couch, and cowboy James holds his finger under Cody’s nose. Cody opens his eyes and asks what James is doing, and James says, checking to see if he’s breathing. Cody says, is he? and James says, so far. Cody says, too bad, but James says, breathing is supposed to be good thing. Cody says, tell that to his head, and James says, Cody should have told him that they were having a sleepover. Cody says, it wasn’t exactly a planned thing, and James says he has gummi worms in his holster. He asks if Cody wants one and Cody says, no. (I can feel his stomach lurch.) James asks what he’s going as for Halloween, when Maxie walks in. She says, Cody looks like he’s going as someone who made a big mistake last night. (That’s actually pretty funny.)

Sasha flashes back to the bar and Michael ordering tequila. She asks what he’s doing here, and he says, celebrating. He finally knows the truth. He tells the bartender, keep them coming. She remembers them making out and then moving to the bed. Michael wakes up and sees her.

Drew says he’s sorry to drop in, but he needs to apologize. Willow says she doesn’t want his apology. Just go. If Michael finds them together, it’s the last thing she needs. Drew asks if she’s heard from him, but she says, no. He asks if she wants him to call… and she says, no. Stay away from her and Michael. Her marriage can’t take any more of his help. He says he understands and asks if she was about to tell Michael when she showed up at the main house. She says she thought it was better if Michael heard it from her. Nina told her everything.

Portia says she had nothing to do with Heather leaving. Now they can refocus their lives again. Trina says she has nothing to report and asks about Marshall, but Portia wants to hear everything about school.

At the Surf Lodge, Dante asks if Rocco is okay, but he says he just wants to see his mom. Dante says, she’s still recovering and will be in the ICU for a while. They’ll see her when she’s moved, but there’s something he wants to talk to Rocco about first.

Sam says she heard Lulu’s surgery went well, and Alexis says, her transplant prognosis is good. Sam says, that’s a relief, and Alexis says, it’s a relief to see Sam smiling. Sam says, considering she’s fine and Lulu has hope, it’s cause for celebration, and Alexis says, their family is long overdue. Sam says she hopes Alexis means that… She shows Alexis the ring and says, Dante proposed. Alexis says, it’s about time, and Sam says she knows Alexis isn’t a big advocate of marriage. Alexis says her marriages were dumpster fires. Sam’s will be better. They hug.

Trina says she loves art history, but her project partner has made no appearance. She doesn’t want to say how good things are or she’ll jinx it, but Portia says, that won’t happen. What about her missing partner? Trina says she tried to contact them, but if she doesn’t hear from them soon, she’s going to tell the TA to get her a different partner. Portia says, it’s Trina’s turn to have some good times, and Trina says she’s going to make it happen for herself. She’s got to get going. She’ll see Portia later.

James asks Cody what mistake he made, when a car horn blows outside. Maxie says, that’s Billy’s mom, and James says, if Cody changes his mind about not going trick-or-treating, go as a cowboy, so they’ll match. He and Cody fist bump, and Cody is like, ow. James leaves, and Maxie asks how Cody’s hangover is feeling.

Sasha and Michael are both in robes, so I assume they’re at a hotel. He asks if she’s okay, and she says she has a hangover from hell and is totally mortified. Otherwise, she’s okay. Him? He says, the same, and asks what they had to drink. She says, everything, and he says, that wasn’t his plan. He doesn’t think he had a plan. She says, neither did she. She was angry and hurting, and the alcohol did nothing to improve her judgement. He says he was in the same place. What happened… Neither of them planned it. They’re both at fault. Sasha says she’d agree, but it hurts to nod her head, and Michael says his hair hurts. She says, there’s something she didn’t tell him. When he told her about Willow kissing Drew, she already knew. She saw them kissing on the 4th of July. She walked into the solarium, but they didn’t see her, and she didn’t say anything. She didn’t know what to say or do. It was the last thing she expected. He says, it was the last thing he expected to hear, and she says, Willow is her friend, but she and Michael have history. He’s always been kind to her and she should have told him. He says she was just trying to be loyal to both of them. He understands and he’s not mad. She says, him being mad wouldn’t be the straw that broke the camel’s back, but it would be the straw that killed her. He says, it’s not on her. Willow and Drew are the ones who put them in this position.

Scout tells Jason that she brought Sam a grilled cheese because she likes them, and Olivia said she was a hero. Jason says, she’s one of the bravest people he knows, and they go into the elevator.

Alexis says, when first she first noticed Sam and Dante together, she thought they were a perfect match. The longer they were together, Sam smiled more. She was more herself than with anyone else. Sam says, that’s how it felt from the beginning. They each had a piece of a life, but not the whole thing. It works. Alexis says, they made it work. They committed to building a life, and they took that life, and wrapped it around their families. Sam says she never thought it could be this way, and Alexis says, Sam showed her what a healthy relationship looks like. She wasn’t able to give her girls that kind of family, but Sam is giving it to hers. What she just did for Dante and Rocco is the best gift ever. There’s no demonstration of love that’s greater. Sam says she loves Dante, and Alexis says she loves Sam, and kisses her hand.

Maxie tells Cody, don’t throw up on the rug. They had a dog… Cody says, don’t finish that story. He’s sorry he crashed here, but Mac insisted because Felicia swapped out her couch for a love seat. Maxie says, if it wasn’t an election year, she would have heard about it. She knew it would come back to bite her. Cody asks if she thinks a pint-sized cowboy with gummi worm breath will be punishment enough, and Maxie says she thought Mac talked some sense into him.

Sasha says she doesn’t blame Michael for being angry, but Willow felt terrible and was beating herself up. Michael says he’s glad Willow regrets kissing Drew, but he hates that she’s beating herself up over it. It just happened, right? Sasha says, after Willow confided in her about the second kiss… Michael says, there was a second kiss? and Sasha says she thought he knew.

Drew says, Nina showed up and told Willow everything? and Willow says, yes. He asks what she said, and she says, Cody was blabbing about how Drew kissed his nephew’s wife. Drew says he’s sorry, but she says she’s not blaming him. Drew says, Cody was drinking like it was his job, and Willow tells him that Nina said he was very drunk and punched Drew. Then he said what he said. Drew says, that sums it up, and she says she didn’t want Michael to find out from a stranger or a news report. She wanted to tell him. She thought she could make him understand. Drew says, and he decided to do it himself, and she says, after all the times he told her not to, he went ahead did it anyway. (I hope the bloom is finally off that rose for her.)

Dante tells Rocco that Sam said yes, she’ll marry him. They want to make their family official. Rocco seems surprised. Rocco says he is, and Dante asks if he’s surprised that she said yes, but Rocco says he’s surprised Dante asked. Dante says, why? Clearly, it’s something. What’s going on? He doesn’t like them being married? Rocco says, what about mom?

There’s a beeping alarm, and Jason notices Portia running toward Sam’s room. He sees Alexis running out and she looks at him. She shakes her head.

Jason tells Danny that he needs to take his sister to Bobbie’s. Eat something and wait there for him. Danny asks, what’s going on? but Jason says, not right now. Scout says she wants to see mom, and Danny says, he was thinking that mom loves the cookies at Bobbie’s. They could get a bunch for her as a surprise. They leave, and Jason asks Alexis, what happened? She say she doesn’t know.

Elizabeth says, Sam isn’t responsive and has no pulse. She’s not breathing. Lucas says, code blue and he wants a crash cart. He wonders where this is coming from. Her vitals were normal. He asks if it could be internal bleeding, and Portia says, a possible embolism. She does chest compression, and he asks for the paddles. He uses them on Sam, but there’s no response. He does it again.

Maxie tosses a bag of ice to Cody, and he says, there’s some stuff she should know before she gives her speech. She says she knows more than he and Sasha would like, and he says, she knows they’re cousins? She says, first cousins, and he asks if it was published in The Invader.  She says, it’s not known publicly, but her mom is friends with Sasha’s mom. Sasha said her mom was dead, so Maxie was surprised when Holly told her mother and Sasha confirmed it. Cody asks how Sasha is, and Maxie says, hurt and confused, to be expected. He says, that makes two of them, and she asks what he remembers. He says he was drinking… She says, not at all responsibly, and he says he punched that smarmy son of a bitch Drew Cain in his smug little face. Maxie says, he and Sasha got horrible news, and they were both in a bad place, but she doesn’t understand. Why Drew?

Willow says she wanted to be honest from the beginning, but Drew said not to make it a bigger deal. Then he blindsided her. Why? Why blow up her life? Drew says he didn’t have a choice. Ned and Tracy were going to blackmail him. She says she can’t believe they knew. She’s going to be sick. Drew says, the told him that they’d tell Michael everything unless he went along with their demands. It would have only escalated until someday it blew up anyway. In the moment, he had no other call. He still doesn’t. She says, he’s probably right, and he says, she’s got to believe him. If he’d had a second to warn her, he would have. He’s sorry. She says, none of that matters. All she cares about is her family. She wants Michael to come home. She can tell him one truth; she loves him and their family. And she’s going to do what it takes to earn his forgiveness. There’s only one person who could have told Cody. Sasha. She can’t believe Sasha did that to her. (Oh come on. Like telling an SO a secret you’re keeping is unheard of.)

Michael asks what Sasha means, but she says, forget it. He says, tell him what she knows, and she says, the night McConkey died, Drew was torn up, and he and Willow kissed again. Michael asks if there were any other times, but she says, no. Willow loves him and she’s hating herself. He says, maybe she should. He can wrap his head around one kiss. One kiss is a mistake. The second time is not an accident. They made a choice.

Cody says, Drew is sleeping with Nina and kissing Willow, and Maxie asks how he knows. He asks how she knew, and she says, look at this face. People tell her things, but she doesn’t drink and tell. He says he feels bad about his big mouth, but not the punch, and she says she’s not being judgy, but why Drew? Cody says he’s trying to be a good guy, but look at what doing the right thing has gotten him. She says she’s sorry about Sasha.

Sasha tells Michael, emotions were high, and Drew and Willow got caught up in the moment. She thinks they know something about that. She doesn’t like herself right now. She loves Willow and broke her confidence and slept with her husband. Michael says, there’s enough blame to go around, but the person at fault the most is Drew. (Agreed.)

Willow says, she confided in Sasha, and Sasha blabbed (WOTD) to Cody, but Drew says, she can take Cody off her worry list. He’ll handle Cody. Willow says, Michael will be home soon and she’s going to tell him everything, including about the second kiss. It’s the only way they can move forward. Drew says, Michael is already hurt. Telling Michael about her feelings for him will only hurt him more. (Yeah. We see how well that advice worked out the first time.)

Cody tells Maxie, Drew is not a good guy. Nobody knows he’s sleazing around with his nephew’s wife and sleeping with her mom. He thinks he’s better than everybody else, but he’s not. He’s a sleaze hiding behind a nice haircut and fancy coats and suits, and he’s getting rewarded for it. He wanted to pull Drew down from the pedestal he’s put himself on and throw him down in the gutter where he belongs. Maxie says, so he had his big moment and lashed out. Where did that get him? He says, a night on her couch, and she says, he could have wound up in jail. He says, thanks to Mac, that didn’t happen, and she says she’s sorry. It’s a horrible thing, but she hopes he realizes that he has a family who can help him through it and will. Things are going to get better. Stay away from Drew. He says he plans to, and she says, otherwise, he’ll deal with her. He asks if this is what having a sister is like, and she says, if you’re lucky.

Lucas calls for the paddles again, and tries to revive Sam, but she’s still unresponsive. (These scenes are actually a little stressful to watch, they’re so intense.)

Dante asks if Rocco remembers what it was like before Sam, and Rocco says, they were sad all the time. Dante says, they were barely making it through the day. It’s like they were sleepwalking. Then Sam showed up and it got better. It was like they woke up. Rocco says, it was easier to move, and Dante says, they weren’t stuck anymore. Rocco says, Sam unstuck them, and Dante says, they did it together, but Sam made it possible.

Lucas says he won’t quit, and Portia says, she’s in AFib. Lucas tells Sam not to quit on him now.

Alexis asks a nurse if she can tell her what’s going on. She’s Sam’s mother. The nurse says, her medical team is doing what they can, and they’ll update Alexis as soon as they can. She leaves, and Alexis tells Jason that she doesn’t understand.  She was just with Sam. Dante had proposed, and Sam showed her the ring. They were happy and laughing. She doesn’t know what happened.

Lucas keeps trying and tells Portia to resume compression. Portia keeps trying, but her face says, it’s futile.

Alexis tells Jason, Sam was fine one second – happy about her future – and the next, her face went completely white, and she couldn’t breathe. She was confused and Alexis didn’t know what to do. She doesn’t understand. She’s scared

Dante says, Sam, Danny, and Scout were a package deal, and Rocco says, it took some getting used to. Danny is mostly a pain. Dante says, siblings are pains, but we love them, and Rocco says, most of the time, they’re great. Dante says, family is great. And Sam is the one who gave them their family again.

Sam flatlines, and Portia says, it’s time. Lucas says, no. She’s still here. Go again. The paddles… I said, charge. Portia keeps up the chest compression and looks at Elizabeth.

Alexis says she called Sam’s name, but she didn’t answer. Alarms went off and she was pushed out while they rushed in. Her girl is in there.

Scout wonders where Jason is. It’s almost time for trick-or-treating. Danny says he’ll take her. He knows the houses where the best candy is. She says, mom loves Halloween candy… Grandma looked weird. He says, not really, but Scout says, she did to her. He says, she’s just tired. She spent the entire night at the hospital. She asks if he thinks mom will have a scar, and he says, probably. A scar is cool. She says, mom is cool. She’s a hero. He says, she is.

Portia says, the patient is still in asystole, but Lucas says he can do this. Portia says, she’s been in asystole for 30 minutes. She’s gone. Lucas gathers himself and says, time of death, 5:48 pm. The monitor is shut off.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth tells Jason, do it for Sam; Drew asks Cody if they have a deal; Michael asks Willow if there’s anything else; and Sasha says, no one has to know about this.

⚖️ There Is No Defense…

Seriously? There’s a big difference between nobody’s perfect and being a total creeper.

🧂 Worth Their Salt…

The almost fistfight between Whitney and Lisa’s husbands was shut down before it got to the RHONJ Battle of the Joes level. While I give kudos to Justin for defending his wife, dumping a full bottle of Lisa’s tequila down the drain when he got home was a little juvenile. For one thing, Lisa wasn’t there, so the point is moot. All he did was create the hassle of getting more tequila. I’d say good riddance to it, but apparently, they like it. Justin and John met later and right away John asked if they should order appetizers. Now that’s the way to squash beef. Eat some smashed potatoes with it.

I like Bronwyn more every episode. One of the fun things she likes to do is pick her husband up from the airport wearing different costumes. Get that sexy nurse out of your head, because I mean things like sharks and unicorns. And mushrooms. More like mascot costumes. He acted longsuffering about it, but he seems to be a good sport, and I can see why she married him.

Heather went to Bronwyn’s fantabulous house, where Bronwyn met her at the door wearing fantabulous earrings. An errant dog poop found inside prompted Heather to say in her interview that she had to watch her step. Who among us owners of little dogs has not found a wayward poopie? And Bronwyn’s house is so massive, it’s a wonder she can find her own bathroom. Bronwyn was honest in saying she’d invited Heather because she was planning a group trip and didn’t know where their friendship was at. As usual, Heather took offense and denied any responsibility in their rift. IMO, Heather lost any shred of authenticity along with the weight. In Angie’s interview, she’d said she’d known Heather since they were kids. Heather had always wanted to sit at the cool kids’ table, still did, and would do anything to sit there. I’ve never heard a more accurate description.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Dressed as Sherlock Holmes, Wiley tells Temp Michael (see below), the game is a-foot.

Laura hugs Aiden, who asks if there’s any word on Lulu, but Laura says she’s still in surgery. Elizabeth joins them and says, it’s going well. Aiden asks if he can get Laura anything, but she says, seeing him is enough.

Sam wakes up, and Dante says, welcome back. Lucas said she was a five-star patient. She did great. She asks, how’s Lulu? and he says, she’s going to save Lulu’s life.

Holly says she’s the only mother Sasha’s got. Sasha needs her more than she thinks.

On the phone, Tracy says, no comment. She tells Ned to block the last five callers, and he asks if it was a reporter. She says, they want to know about Drew’s campaign, and Lulu is in surgery. Every time the phone rings, her heart lurches. Ned says, it won’t be a problem much longer.

Cody tells Drew that they need to talk, and Drew tells the other Navy SEAL that he’s sorry. He’ll just be a second. He suggests he and Cody move to another spot, but Cody says he’s fine where he is. Drew says, Cody seems a little drunk, but Cody says, nope. Drew says, he looks like he needs some air, and Cody asks who Drew is to tell him what he needs. He calls Drew a smug bastard and punches him in the face. He says, Drew’s been making out with his nephew’s wife while he’s banging her mother. Drew punches Cody, and Nina tells the SEAL to call the police. At the bar, Elaine films what’s going on.

Lucky asks Laura if there’s any news, and she says, Sam is out of surgery. It went well. Lulu’s surgery is still in progress. Lucky says, she’s in good hands, and Elizabeth says she and Aiden are going home. Laura says she’ll call if she hears anything, and they leave. Laura says, a lot of people have come to see her, but she’s happy to spend time with Lucky. He wonders if she’s not going to ask where he’s been, and she says, if he wants her to know, he’ll tell her. He says he spent the day at the federal building jumping through bureaucratic hoops to get an emergency passport. She asks if he’s planning on using it.

Michael asks, what made Wiley think of Sherlock Holmes? and Willow says, says, he’s been reading books about kid detectives. She told him about the OG, Sherlock, and they watched some old movies. He was hooked. Wiley gives Michael a Watson hat, and Michael asks what gives Wiley the impression he’d sign on as his sidekick. Wiley says, elementary, my dear Watson.

Sasha says, that time is long gone, and she’s not talking about her childhood. She thought Holly would show up when her baby died or when her husband was murdered. Holly says she found out long after it happened. She was devastated for Sasha. Sasha says, her sympathy card must have gotten lost in the mail, but Holly says she was respecting Sasha’s wishes and stayed away. Sasha says, since when has Holly cared about what she wanted? She stayed away because she couldn’t be bothered. Her mother-in-law stole all her money and put her in an asylum where she nearly lost her mind. She would have welcomed help, even from Holly, but she was nowhere to be found. So this is way too little way too late.

Drew says, Cody is drunk, and Cody says, Drew’s a cheating bastard. Drew says he doesn’t know where Cody is getting this, and Cody asks how Nina is okay with Drew messing with her daughter to placate his massive ego. Dex comes in with another officer and says, someone complained about an assault. The bartender says, this guy tried to attack Mr. Quartermaine, and Dex asks Cody to come with him to the station. Don’t make it worse. Cody says, fine, but this isn’t over. He leaves with the other officer, and Drew tells Dex that Cody had too much to drink. He’s not going to press charges. Dex leaves and Nina says, that’s not what she meant when she said, get down and dirty. Drew thanks her for her suggestion. It’s time for damage control. He tells the bartender, a round for the house on him, and everyone cheers. Elaine quietly leaves.

Tracy asks why Ned thinks Drew’s campaign is going to tank, and he says he has a hunch that things are not as they seem. His phone dings, and Ned says, a video. They can watch together. He shows her the bar fight, and she says, tell her this is real. He says he hired a P.I. after learning some incriminating evidence. She asks, from whom? and he says, an unusual credible source. He had Drew followed to get confirmation. She says, he’s a genius. They have the ammunition and now they need to figure out how best to use it.

Lucky looks at the blank passport and says, it’s like the last decade never happened. Laura says, there’s so much she doesn’t know about his life. What’s he been up to all this time? How did he meet Dr. Gannon? He says, they were in the same refugee camp. He was security and Isaiah was with an international medical team. He could tell Isaiah was a good doctor and couldn’t turn down a seat at a poker table. Isaiah even beat him a couple of times. She asks if Lucky let him, but Lucky says, Isaiah is pretty good at everything he does. Eventually, the camp staff was full, so they decided to move on to where the need was greater, and it became a pattern looking for the next challenge, while at the same time living in the moment. She asks if that’s his way of telling her that he and Isaiah got through dangerous situations together, and he says, maybe. She says, they’re both very brave, and he says he could say that about Isaiah, but for him, he thinks he’s just been running.

Sasha says, when she got committed, Cody rescued her, and Holly says, thank God. Sasha says, when she got out, she was still broken, and Holly says she’s sorry. Sasha says, Cody believed in her and put her back together. He’s the reason she started believing in herself again and trusting again and opening her heart again. Holly says, she’s grateful and truly wishes they could stay together, and Sasha says, but they can’t.

Dex brings Cody to the interrogation room and says he’ll get Cody some coffee, but Cody says, just throw him in a cell. Dex says, Drew’s not pressing charges, and Cody says, if Dex knew the whole story, he’d think Drew deserved it. Dex says he thinks the bar owner would disagree, and Cody says, it will probably be brushed under the rug like the fat cats do. Just put him in the drunk tank and let him sleep it off. He doesn’t need to talk to anybody else. Mac walks in and says, not even his dad? He heard Cody had quite a night.

The bartender tells Drew, that guy was drunk and out of line. He’s glad Drew put him in his place. He’s a class act and Drew’s got his vote. He goes back to the bar, and Nina says, it’s just a matter of time before Michael finds out. Even if he dismisses it as gossip, it’s bad. It could ruin his relationship with Willow. Drew says, Cody will be contained until he sobers up. When he sees Drew didn’t press charges, maybe he’ll be more cooperative. He’ll settle Cody’s tab and with any luck, that will be the end of it.

Tracy says, remind her to give Cody a raise, and Ned says he hates bringing negative attention to the family. Tracy says, Drew did that, and Ned says he thought Tracy approved of Drew being a Quartermaine. She says she thought Alan should have one child to carry on his name, but Drew’s not worthy. He deserves what he gets. Ned says, when he shows this to Drew, he’ll sign over his shares to yours truly, and Tracy asks, why not rid them of Drew once and for all? He asks, how? and she says, tell Michael everything.

Dante tells Sam that Lulu is still in surgery, but they’ll let him know when she’s in recovery. Sam asks if he’s seen Lucas, and he says, Lucas told him that her prognosis is excellent. She can come home next week. She says, he has to make sure the kids are organized and don’t forget to pick up the cupcakes for Scout’s fall bake sale. Dante says, she left notes all over. He’s got it. There is one thing he’d like to ask her… She says, Scout likes the cupcakes from Eckerd’s, but he says, it’s not that. He takes out a ring and asks if she’ll marry him.

Mac says he’ll take it from here, and Dex leaves. Cody says he had one too many, and Mac says, one? Cody says he lost count and he’s as drunk as a skunk, but Drew had it coming. Mac says he doesn’t want to know why Cody did what he did, but he wants to talk about why Cody was tossing them back in the first place. Cody says, he knows, and Mac says, he does. Let’s talk about Sasha.

Holly says, Sasha deserved a better mother. She didn’t do the hard things. Sasha says, she didn’t do anything, but Holly says she always loved Sasha. She wasn’t cut out to be a mother. Sasha says, it was easier to leave her with Nona. Nona loved her, and for a long time, she was the only person who did. When Nona was gone, she tried to make a life for herself and got close more than once, but every time, it fell apart. This time it fell apart because of Holly. Holly says, it’s not her fault Cody is Sasha’s cousin, but Sasha says, it’s Holly’s fault she didn’t know until now. And now, she’s alone again. Holly says, she has her father and her father’s family, and Sasha says, that Cody’s a part of. Holly says, she knows it cost Sasha a lot, but it cost a lot for her too. She’s lost the love of her life forever. (Wow. Way to be self-centered.)

At the gatehouse, Nina says she hopes it’s okay that she came by, and Willow says, she can check out Wiley’s Halloween costume. Wiley hugs Nina, and Nina says, it’s the perfect choice. It’s chic. Tweed is in this season. Michael says, they’re going to the main house to show Monica and pick up Amelia, and Wiley asks if Nina wants to come, but Nina says she wants to talk to Wiley’s mom. Wiley and Michael leave, and Willow asks what brings Nina by. Nina says she gave Willow some bad advice about Drew. She needs to tell Michael the truth as soon as she can.

Tracy says she detects more than flicker of daddy’s ruthlessness in Michael, and Ned says, that baby face belies the heart of a shark. She says, now Drew’s been sniffing around Michael’s wife. They can engineer it so he drops out of the race and out of their lives forever. He says, or they can look at it another way. If Drew wins, he can use the video as leverage. He’ll have a congressman under his thumb. Her too. He’s willing to share. Drew comes in, and Tracy says, someone’s had a rough night.

Sam says, Dante is asking now? She’s on painkillers. He says he’d hoped that would work to his advantage. He wanted to ask her when she woke up. Sam says, in this romantic setting. There’s just one thing she wants him to know. It’s okay if he still loves Lulu.

Laura says she’s sure Lucky has his own perspective on the situation, and she wants to hear it. He says, of course (🍷), and she says, he didn’t grow up in a normal stay-put family. She and Luke were fugitives for the first half of his life, until he was 11 years old. That’s why his idea of home is different than just about everyone else’s, including his sister. By the time Lulu came, they were settled in Port Charles. The need he has to… when the going gets rough, to run out and get an emergency passport, that instinct is in him because of how he was raised. Please don’t beat himself up about that. He says he tries to tell himself that even if he can’t stay in one place, at least he can do some good while he’s there, and she says, he does. He has. He also protected Isaiah, and because he did, Isaiah is able to be here to help save his sister. He says he’s so grateful for that, but in the process, he left Elizabeth and his son behind.

Sasha says, Holly is making this about herself, but Holly says she wants Sasha to know that coming clean was for her sake. Despite her failings, she wants to provide for Sasha. Sasha says, she can provide for herself just fine, and Holly tells her, as they say, tout ce qui te rend heureux, whatever makes you happy. Sasha wonders how Holly knows she couldn’t be a mother when she never tried, and Holly says she could have tried grinding out an existence, but she would have been an unhappy mother. Sasha says, at least she would have been there, and Holly says she’s here now. She just pulled off the biggest job of her career and she did it for Sasha. She’s in a position to make sure Sasha is set for life.

Cody says he’s sure Mac has better things to do, but Mac says, it’s a tough break and one they didn’t see coming. Cody says he’d been keeping honest, working at being worthy of Sasha, being a better guy. Mac says, he still is, and Cody laughs. He says he’s in jail, and Mac says, he’ll get past it, but it will take time. Cody says, it won’t change the fact that he and Sasha are cousins. He has to leave Port Charles.

Nina says, Willow should have followed her instincts and told Michael. She needs to be honest. Willow says, Nina told her that she’d just be easing her guilt at his expense. She’s committed to Michael and their family. She had a harmless crush on Drew, and barely anything happened. Nina says, they kissed, and she needs to tell Michael before someone else does. Willow says, only a couple of people know, and she trusts them both, but Nina says, her circle of trust isn’t as tight as she thinks.

Drew asks, what’s going on? and Tracy says, it’s not as exciting as his evening. He says he broke up a fight in a bar, and Ned says he was hoping to discuss the future, but Drew says, it’s not a good time. Ned says, no time like the present. He thinks Drew should be more supportive of the family, so from now on, Drew will do exactly as he says. Drew says, why? and Ned shows him the video. Drew rubs his forehead like he has a headache, and Tracy says, so he wasn’t breaking up a fight. He was an active participant. Drew asks if Ned thinks it’s enough for blackmail, and Ned says, Drew kissed his nephew’s wife while he was sleeping with her mother and he’s running for congress. He’s got to hand it to Drew – time management. (Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!) Drew says, and Cody wouldn’t lie, but Tracy says she’d take Cody’s word over his any day. (Me too.) Drew says he’ll handle Cody, but Ned asks how he plans to handle James West? Does he plan to tarnish James’s reputation or punch him out like Cody?

Laura tells Lucky that most teenagers who meet and fell in love rarely end up being the people they share their lives with. People grow up and change. Lucky says, especially when one of you goes down a dark hole, and Laura says, the important thing is, he climbed back out of it. Everyone is so happy he’s here. He says he needed to hear that, and they hug. He says, no matter where he goes, home is where she is, and she says she needed to hear that. She loves having him here and she’s not the only one. Elizabeth comes back and says she’s going to wait with them. Isaiah comes out and Laura asks, how’s Lulu? He looks grim, but you know how they do.

Cody flashes back to dancing with Sasha, and then Sasha telling him that they’re first cousins. Mac says, no judgement, but he’d hate for Cody to go. They just started to figure things out. Cody says, it’s too hard to be near Sasha without being able to be with her, but Mac says, it won’t make a difference. It’s not easier somewhere else. He speaks from personal experience. Sasha didn’t make him a better man. She may be the reason, but he did the work. It would be a shame to give up now.

Holly says she took the biggest risk of her life, and it paid off. She’ll never have to work again. Sasha says she’s happy for Holly, and Holly says, she’s going to liquidate her share of the proceeds, then Sasha can do and be whatever she wants. Let her do that for her. Sasha says, no thanks. Holly is telling her that this is her last job, but Sasha knows it won’t be. There will be another score and another after that, because she loves the high of living on the edge. Telling lies, using people, and getting away with it. That’s just who she is. Sasha walks out.

Nina says, Cody was drunk, but convincing, and Willow wonders how he knew. Sasha was the only one who saw them, and the other time, they were alone. She must have told Cody. (Seriously. She’s a teacher and can’t do the math?)  Nina says, that’s why Willow needs to tell Michael. He needs to hear it from her before he hears it from someone else. Willow says she could lose everything, but Nina tells her, be strong. They’ll go together, but they need to go now. They’re running out of time.

Ned says, it’s simple. Unless Drew wants Michael to know about his involvement with Michael’s wife, Drew will side with him on every vote. Tracy says, starting with confirming Ned as CEO, and Drew asks if they think he’d go along with that. Ned says, if he wants to be congressman, and Tracy says, and Willow will stay the dutiful wife, and Michael will be none the wiser. Ned says, deal? when Michael comes in with Wiley. He asks, what’s wrong?

Isaiah says, the surgery went well, and Lulu is in recovery. They have to wait and see if her body accepts the transplant, but he’s more optimistic about her prognosis than he was earlier. Lucas hugs him, and Laura says, Lulu has a second chance because of Isaiah and Lucky. Lucky says, they got through together.

Sam says, Dante doesn’t have to propose to thank her for being Lulu’s donor or prove that he loves her too, but Dante says he’d like to marry her because he wants to grow old together. Because he loves their life and loves their family and loves her. She says she loves him too, and he says, good, because they’ve been dancing around this for a while and he’s tired of dancing. But if she’s not ready, he’ll keep dancing. She says she’s ready and tells him to put a ring on it. He does and they kiss. (They’re going to kill her off, aren’t they?)

Mac says, Cody’s family is here – him, Felicia, Maxie and her kids. Cody says, and Robert and Sasha, and Mac says, running isn’t going to make them less related. James will be heartbroken. Cody says, he’s playing dirty, and Mac says he’s not above stooping low. Stick around a while. Cody says he can do that, and Mac says he’ll find Cody a bed. He doesn’t want to go back to the Q’s tonight. Cody says he’s not grounded? and Mac says, they’ll talk in the morning. They walk out together.

Sasha goes to the Brown Dog Bar and the bartender asks if anyone is joining her. She says, not tonight, and orders, vodka, rocks. (Whoa. That sounds like she’s been here before with someone, and the bartender remembers her.) She flashes back to Cody saying he knows it’s true because he spent his life reaching for things he couldn’t have. So of course (🍷) when he finds the best thing, it turns out he can never have it.

Michael says, Drew’s been in a fight? and Drew says, a misunderstanding with a constituent. Michale says, it feels like he walked in on something, and Ned says, they were discussing how the importance of endorsements, the right ones, can make or break a candidate. Drew says, there’s something he needs to tell Michael, and Ned says, think carefully… Willow and Nina walk in, and Willow says she needs to speak to Michael, but Michael says he wants to hear what Drew has to say first. Drew says he’s sorry, and Michael says, for what? Drew says, last 4th of July, he kissed Michael’s wife. They didn’t mean for it to happen, but it did. Michael asks Willow to tell him that Drew is lying, and Willow says, it didn’t mean anything. She starts to cry and says, please believe she loves him. Michael walks out, and Nina holds Willow, looking at Drew behind her back.

Tomorrow, Maxie says, it looks like Cody is going as someone who made a big mistake last night; Sasha says, neither one of them planned on this happening; and Willow asks why someone would come here.

🗽 Not Taking the A Train…

Jessel said her friend group was a Monet – fabulous from afar, but close up, they were a total mess. Welcome to the Clueless version of RHONY, and also the theme of Jessel’s 41st birthday party. I’m actually on board with this, since I’m a fan of Clueless and all its fashion statements. Sai went plant shopping for her new garden, since she thought the prices at Whole Foods were getting out of hand. Her husband asked if the plants were for food or to take pretty pictures of, which is kind of sad. She said, both, but still. Live your life instead of taking pictures of it. Sai also decided that her mom’s ashes had been in her closet long enough and was going to plant them along with a tree. It was sad when she talked about how this person she’d known and loved her whole life had been reduced to a bag of ashes. This got me on a train of thought about the body really just being a container for love and not the love itself. It reminded me of when my father passed away. I felt that way about the house I grew up in. Once the love (i.e. my father) was gone, it was only an empty container. Hey, I have my moments of depth. Although not usually during a Housewives episode.

Ubah and Racquel discussed the dust-up Ubah had last week with Brynn. Ubah said, Brynn was telling her on the side to watch her behavior, so she wasn’t painted like an angry Black woman. In Racquel’s interview, she said, it was confusing, since Brynn was triggering Ubah into being painted like an angry Black woman. She apologized later on Watch What Happens Live for this remark, but I didn’t understand why. I thought she was spot on. They also talked about how appreciative they were of the freedoms they enjoyed in the USA, which made me appreciate where these women came from and the journey they took to get where they are. Jenna got a job as Editor-and-Chief at large with online fashion magazine Coveteur. During her first roundtable discussion with the staff, one topic was women going to Turkey for eyebrow transplants. Seriously? This is where we’re at?

To prove her ever-growing maturity, Brynn talked smack about Ubah behind her back, saying grown women living in NYC don’t act like that. She also called Sai a miserable troll that lives under the Brooklyn bridge. End of story. Ubah told Raquel that whatever Brynn had against her, she was having it alone, but Racquel suggested she let it out. If she kept it to herself, she’d be stewing and brewing. Erin was deep in the stew and brew, staying annoyed at Jenna for basically not paying enough attention to her. But of course, telling everyone but Jenna. Breaking out the violins.

Here’s the whole deal:

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

In keeping with my tradition of being late to the party, I’ve also started watching Stranger Things. Everybody and their mother tried to get me to watch it forever ago, but I was busy watching other things. I finally caved when I just had to know what those flower-headed things were all about.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for just about everything.

My favorite first. I can’t count the ways I love this show. The acting is amazing, the special effects are creepy AF, and the story is unique. One of my favorite horror/sci-fi sub genres is the isolated town people can’t leave where something creepy is going on.

I was caught up, but now have to watch last Sunday’s episode. Another show with superb acting and Colin Ferrell is remarkable. I’d honestly expected it to be more comic bookish, but it’s more film noir.

https://www.inverse.com/the-penguin-episode-6-release-date-start-time-trailer-plot

Same deal. Caught up and now behind again. The deaths of both Isabelle and Genet in episode 4 surprised me. Genet milked her death for all it was worth, but Isabelle’s was a bit of a trip to the cornfield. No judgement, but when horror turns to corny, it makes me break out in eyerolls.

This show is absolutely crazy. In a good way. Without giving it away here, let’s just say they did an entire 180 last week. I was going, wait… what? through the entire two episodes. They’ve kept the viewers guessing from the jump, but this was insane. I’m thinking, Emmys all around. I’ll bet Nicholas Chavez is glad he left GH. And we all know how much I love GH, but whoever is guiding his career path makes good moves. I did have to wonder though. Why would detectives wear white to investigate a grisly murder scene?

October 28, 2024 – Heather Says Goodbye To Ace, 60th Birthday On Deck, Be Lured, Disturbing View, Treats Without Tricks & Dress

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Laura is surprised to see Heather, who says she’s a free woman. Isn’t that the most amazing news?

Anna goes to Jack’s office and says she needs to talk to him about Charlotte. He says, she’s not on the Bureau’s most wanted list, but Anna says, her father is, and her mother is undergoing major surgery. Charlotte needs to know what’s going on. Can he tell her where Charlotte and her father are?

Drew asks Nina, what’s so urgent? and she says, they have a major problem that might cost him the election.

Holly goes to Pozzulo’s and asks if Sonny has considered her offer. Do they have a deal? Sonny says, not yet, and she sees Jason in his office. She asks if she should come back, but he says, they’re all here about the same thing – Sidwell’s diamonds.

Cody asks if Holly is really Sasha’s mother. She told him that her mother was dead. She says she told everyone. She lied… about a lot of things. She doesn’t have time to list them, but this is one thing she’s not lying about. She wishes she was. Cody says, whatever it is, they can face it, but she says, they can’t because they can never be together.

Jack says, the Bureau has no information on Valentin’s whereabouts, and Anna says, he knows. He says, if he was her, he wouldn’t believe him either, and she says, don’t be a total ass. She knows Valentin worked for Pikeman, then the Bureau disappeared him so they wouldn’t be tied to it. He says, whether her unsubstantiated theory is true or not, Charlotte would be here if Valentin hadn’t been tipped off by Anna.

Nina says, the numbers indicate that blue collar voters feel Drew is out of touch, but Drew says he was raised in a group home. He’s a vet, a Navy SEAL. She says, they see him as the son of a successful doctor from a billionaire family and feel neglected. If the election was today, they wouldn’t vote for him. His opponent is starting a smear campaign about his rich playboy divorcee lifestyle, but he has something Chelsea Grimes doesn’t have – her. She knows what will save him from disaster.

Alexis sees Laura with Heather and tells Laura that Ric is responsible for Heather’s release. Heather says, she’s right. Ric took things in a new direction. Laura wonders how she wasn’t informed, and Elizabeth says, it happened so fast, but Laura says, the warden should have called the mayor’s office. Heather says she can’t believe her good fortune, and Elizabeth takes Steven aside. She asks if he’s sure about this, and he says, it’s best for everyone. Maybe they can even resolve things. Elizabeth says, he’s been down this road, and he says, but they won’t be in Port Charles. She asks if he’s taking Heather to Sedona, and he says, she needs to be far away from the people she’s hurt. Elizabeth asks when they’re leaving, and he says, in a few hours. They came to say goodbye.

Dante sees Steven and says, the day is full of surprises. When did he get back? Steven says, today, and Dante wonders what the hell Heather is doing here.

Heather says she won’t be a bother to anyone ever again. Her handsome son is taking her far away. Both Alexis and Laura ask, how far? and Heather says, Arizona. Laura asks, for how long? and Heather says she hopes this doesn’t upset Laura, but she’s leaving Port Charles for good.

Holly says, Jason’s involvement doesn’t affect the split, and Sonny says, there’s no deal yet. He checked her story, and it turns out she wasn’t up front about everything. Now he has information that’s an absolute deal breaker. She says she was hoping this would end more profitably and asks for her diamond back. He says, of course (🍷). He doesn’t know if she’s heard, but her friend Sidwell is in Miami and he’s pretty sure Sidwell is on his way – he puts the diamond on his desk – to Port Charles. She says, on second thought, she’s too busy to look into other options. Why don’t they get down to business/

Cody asks if he did something wrong, and reaches for Sasha. She steps away, and says, he didn’t. He asks why she doesn’t want to be with him then, and she says, it’s not that. She can’t. They can’t… ever. He says she needs to explain, and she says she found out something she knew couldn’t be true, but she had to be sure… He says, she can tell him anything, and she says she found out his Uncle Robert is her father. He asks who told her, and she says her mother. He says, her mother also told him that she stole the Ice Princess, and Sasha says, she did. He says, she’s a con artist and therefore not a reliable source, and she says, that was her reaction too. She shows him the DNA test and says, it’s true. They’re first cousins.

Elizabeth asks if Steven is sure he can handle Heather, and he says he thinks Heather is sincere. He hopes she is. Dante asks if he thinks he can get her to leave, and Steven says, she knows it’s best. Elizabeth says she doesn’t know if it’s best for him, but he says he believes if they’re away from here, Heather can live a productive life. Besides, he’s not blameless. He did his time, and getting Heather out of Port Charles is a way of making amends.

Laura says she thinks it’s for the best for Heather and her victims, and Alexis says, sometimes in life, you need a fresh start and distance if you want to change your life or behavior. Heather agrees, and Laura says she wishes the very best for Heather, truly. She has to go, but Heather grabs her hand and says, before Laura goes, she needs to ask one favor.

Holly asks if Jason filled Sonny in on Sidwell, and Sonny says, he’s a dangerous man. Holly says she had Sidwell under control, but Jason says, if it wasn’t for the WSB, they’d be dead. Holly says, if it wasn’t for her, they wouldn’t have gotten to the airfield, but Sonny says, it doesn’t matter who did what. Sidwell is on his way, and they need to unload the diamonds before he tracks them and Holly. Holly asks, what are the new terms?

Cody says, Holly rigged the test, but Sasha says, it was done at a secure WSB lab. He says, she found a way, but Sasha says, stop. She hates it as much as he does, but it’s true. Robert is her father, which means they’re first cousins. He asks if her grandmother raising her was a lie, but Sasha says, no, she did. He says, where was Holly? and she says she doesn’t know. Anywhere she could find a rich mark to bleed dry. Holly told her that her father was dead. Even Holly believed it for a while. It’s a long story. Cody says, clearly, he was not dead, and Sasha says, Holly never told her or Robert. She broke news to him. Cody laughs and says he gives Holly credit. Better late than never. Sasha says, the only thing she gives Holly credit for is teaching her how to be a good conwoman. It brought her to Port Charles. He says, the job she did for Valentin, and she says, if she hadn’t agreed, she would have never met Brando or him. She thought she was on track to new life. She thought after all the loss, she was going to be happy. It turns out she was wrong.

Anna says, Valentin getting away is on her, but she thought it was the right thing for Charlotte, and Jack says, if she told him that she hadn’t been in bed with Valentin, he’d believe her about the girl she shot in the dark. Anna tears up and says she’ll never be free of the guilt. She didn’t want Charlotte to be without her father. Letting Valentin get away was her mistake. Tell her where they are. He says, her guess is as good as his, and she says, her mother could die. She’s the one who set this in motion and needs to be the one to bring Charlotte back. He says he wishes her the best of luck, and she says, okay. If he’s not going to help her, fine. She’ll keep going on her own. She’s betting there are things Jack doesn’t want her to know, but she’s going to find out. She’s going to find Charlotte and Valentin. What happened was on her, but what happens next is on him.

Drew asks, what’s the plan? and Nina takes his jacket off. She tells him to take off his shirt, and he says, really? Now? She says she picked out his suits and it worked out for what they needed. Now they need something casual. She hands him a flannel shirt and jeans, and he asks if their strategy is casual Friday. She says, they’re going to show people a different side of him. Less Drew Quartermaine and more Drew Cain. They’re going to go out, have a few beers, and meet the Everyman. He asks how a Park Avenue princess on his arm is going to help, but she says, no one is going to look at the Park Avenue princess. And if they do, she’ll point them in his direction. He asks where they’re going, and she says she knows just the place.

On the phone, Laura tells Doc that she has news. He asks if Lulu is okay, but she says she doesn’t have news about that yet. Heather was released. Heather waves to her from down the hall, and Laura says she’s standing right in front of her. The good news is, Heather is going to move to Arizona with her son, but she’s requested to visit Ace one more time. She has to stay at the hospital, so he’ll have be the one supervising. She has no problem telling Heather that it doesn’t work for them…. Okay, she’ll tell her. She goes over to Heather and says she and Doc agreed Heather can visit Ace. Heather hugs her.

Sonny says, Jason’s involvement isn’t the only new term. The WSB is going to keep an eye on Sidwell, then track him to the diamonds, then to her, then to them. 30% isn’t enough. 35% and he holds onto the diamonds. She has to make it worth his while. She asks if there are other terms, but he says, that’s it. She says, he’s taking advantage of a woman in need, and he just looks at her. She gives him the diamonds and says, trust is a two-way street. He tells her to remember that, and she says she’ll see them again, the sooner, the better. She leaves and Sonny tells Jason to keep the diamonds safe. He has to go to the hospital to see Dante and Sam. Jason says, they can’t hold onto them for too long, and Sonny says he gets that, but family comes first.

Cody asks if Sasha was ever going to tell him that her mom was alive, and she says she had no reason to. She never planned on seeing her again. It was right of her to come forward before they went too far. She guesses they should be thankful for the interruptions. They never… He says, became more than kissing cousins, and she says she was praying and hoping it wasn’t true, but she could see Robert believed it. He says, and the test confirmed it, and she says, it’s the only reason she’d ever break up with him. He says, that’s how he knows it’s true. Not because of the test, but because of him. He spent his whole life reaching for things he couldn’t have. Of course (🍷) when he finally finds the best thing in his life, it turns out he can never have it.

Sasha says she’s so sorry. She’s the reason he’s in pain. Cody says, her mother is the reason he’s in pain. Had Holly been honest with her, this wouldn’t have happened. She says, they can still be friends, but he says, he doesn’t want to be her friend… He didn’t mean that. She says she knows what he meant, and he says he’s just like her mom, but Sasha says, he’s one of the most wonderful men she’s ever met. He says, a lot of good it did him. He tried to turn his life around and for what? She tells him not to let that change. Don’t throw away the great people in his life. He says, just throw her away, and she says, they’ll get past it, as two people who love each other, even if it’s not the way they want to. She knows she’ll look back on their time together and cherish it. She hopes he does the same. He says he’s sorry, but he can’t turn off the feelings. He has no idea where his life is going to go. For the last few months, when he pictured the future, he saw her. He walks out.

Anna finds Jason at Pozzulo’s, and says she should have listened to him. She let her feelings for Valentin and her guilt about Charlotte compromise her. He says, they all make bad calls, and she says, if she’d let the Feds take Valentin, Charlotte would be here. She feels like she ruined Charlotte’s life. Jason says, Valentin will keep Charlotte safe, but Anna says, as a fugitive. She’s separated from her mother who’s gravely ill, and the support of the rest of her family. He says, what’s done is done. The only thing they can figure is how to find her and get her back. Anna asks if he’ll help her, and he says, any way he can.

Laura asks if Elizabeth called Steven, but Elizabeth says she went to pick Heather up and Steven was there ready to take her, thank God. Laura says she’s grateful it will be over soon.

Steven brings Heather to Laura’s apartment, and Doc answers the door. She says, if it isn’t her favorite good twin, and he tells her, hello. It’s good to see Steven. Ace is there playing with his toys, and she says, if it’s not her sweetest little grand angel. He’s so big. He probably doesn’t remember her, but she’s his grandma. She’s so happy to see him.

At the Brown Dog Bar, Cody asks the bartender if they’ve got any good tequila. (Is there any good tequila? I just don’t like tequila, and it’s always tequila.)

Sasha tries to call Cody and wonders where he is. She leaves a message for Mac to call her back as soon as possible. She’s worried about Cody.

At the bar, Cody says, uno mas, when Nina and Drew come in.

Dante and Sonny hug, and Sonny asks how he’s doing. Dante says, crawling out of his skin, and Sonny suggests they take a walk.

Alexis says she’s impressed with Laura’s handling of Heather, and Laura says she hopes she made the right choice. Alexis says, just because Heather was found not responsible for her crimes, doesn’t mean Laura owes her anything, but Laura says she can’t shake the feeling she got the ball rolling by asking Alexis to look into the case. Alexis says, all she did was order copes of the sentencing transcript. Scotty took it to the court, then bailed. The only one responsible for unleashing Heather is Ric.

Sonny asks, what’s the latest? and Dante says he’s hoping to hear about Sam’s surgery soon. He hopes Lulu survives. Sonny says, as long as she’s alive, there’s a chance she’ll wake up, but Dante says he feels like he gave false hope to his son. He made Rocco a promise and Rocco is going to be devastated if it doesn’t work out. Sonny says, there’s nothing wrong in having hope. He doesn’t doubt Dante is a great father. They hug.

Spinelli goes into Pozzulo’s and sees Anna. He says, greetings. He thinks he left his headlights on. Anna says, relax. He’s fine. He’s here because she needs his help. More specifically, she needs The Jackal.

Anna says she believes the WSB, or at least Jack Brennan independently, are helping Valentin and Charlotte stay off the grid. She needs Spinelli’s help finding them. Does he think he can do that? Spinelli asks if it’s professional police business, but Jason says, it’s off the books. Anna says, the department can’t find out or the WSB, and Spinelli says, far be it for him to deny help to Maxie’s godmother. The Jackal is on board. Anna says, Jason trusts Spinelli with his life and she trusts Jason with hers.

Holly walks into the stables, and says she knows Sasha doesn’t want to see her. Sasha says she’s lived most of her life without Holly. All she does is cause pain. This is the last time they’re going to see each other. She will never forgive Holly for this. Holly is dead to her.

A man goes over to Drew and tells Drew that he’s a Navy SEAL too. Drew says he’s sure the man has stories and tells him to have a seat and tell them a few. The bartender tells Cody, that’s Drew Cain. He seems like a good enough guy. Cody flashes back to Sasha telling him that Nina told her in confidence that she’s in a situationship with Drew, but during the fireworks on the 4th of July, she walked into the solarium and saw Drew and Willow kiss. Cody downs his shot and walks over to Drew. He asks for a word, but Drew says, the man is telling a story. Cody thanks the man for his service, and says he’ll bring Drew right back. Drew thinks they should let the man finish, and Nina says she needs to talk to Cody. Let the two vets talk… Cody says he doesn’t want to talk to her. He needs to talk to Drew. Drew tells the man, it will just take a second. He’ll be back. He suggests he and Cody go to a more private spot, but Cody says he’s fine here. Drew says, he seems drunk, but Cody says, nope. Drew says, Cody looks like he could use fresh air, and Cody punches him in the face. He asks who Drew thinks he is, telling him what to do. He gets louder and says, smug bastard. Making out with your nephew’s wife while you’re banging her mom. (D’oh!)

Sonny tells Laura that he’s sorry. Lulu is tough. She’ll make it through. She thanks him and says she knows he loves her too. Alexis asks if there’s any word, but Laura says, not yet. She sees Elizabeth coming over to them and says, that might change soon. Elizabeth says, Sam is out, and the surgery went very well. She’s resting comfortably. Alexis and Dante hug.

Heather says, Ace is so handsome. She’s not surprised. His Uncle Steven is a looker. So was his is late Uncle Franco. And his mommy Esme was a great beauty. Ace continues to play, and she says, his mom had her faults, but she loved him more than anything. Now he’s her only remaining connection to his mom and she’s so grateful. She misses her so much. She wishes she could stay in Port Charles forever and watch him grow up, but it’s not possible. She has to say goodbye and leave him. It’s the hardest thing she’s ever done other than lose his mommy. Steven thanks Doc for giving Heather time with her grandson, and Doc says, it’s not selfless entirely. He doesn’t want Heather to feel like she has any unfinished business. Steven says he gets it and tells Heather that they’ve got to get to the airport. It’s time. Heather says, okay, and tells Ace that it’s time. Grandma has got to go. It’s hard to say goodbye. Can she have one last hug for road? She hugs him and says she loves him so much, and he looks like a dog who does not want to be hugged and might bolt at any second. She tells him that she’ll miss him, then whispers, but she’ll be back.

Tomorrow, Nina says she thinks she gave Willow some really bad advice; Tracy tells Ned that they have all the ammunition and just have to figure out how best to use it; and Dante asks Sam to marry him.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Everyone on the boat is looking for Cloyce, and Gary tells Captain Glenn that Cloyce is with the guests. The captain says, he’s not here to have fun. Bring him back now. In Captain Glenn’s interview, he says, what the hell? The guests are going to want to eat right away and it’s not going to be ready. If you’re as young as Cloyce, you need to err on the side of professionalism and be the kind of person who shows extra maturity. Daisy says, it’s like herding cats, and Gary tells Cloyce that he has to come back to the boat. In Daisy’s interview, she says, it’s the primary’s birthday, and she feels like a mom trying to get her toddler out of the f***ing jungle gym. Davide picks up Cloyce in the tender, and Captain Glenn tells Daisy that he’s having dinner with the guests. Daisy says, they also have the mermaid. Cloyce comes back and it’s 20 minutes until lunch. The table looks beautiful, decorated with palm fronds and green napkins on each plate. In Emma’s interview, she says she’s embarrassed about Gary snapping at her. We flash back to that, and she says she finds failure embarrassing. She’s struggled with it in the past. Growing up with a sister and brother who know what they’re doing was her security. She’s crazy Aunt Emma on the boat, alone on the sea. She’s hoping it’s just a bad day and gets smoother.

Gary suggests the guests stay on the swim platform, and he’ll haul them back. Glenn asks if Cloyce had a good time. When the guests come back, they like to have them eat as quickly as possible because they have to eat dinner. Cloyce says he’ll get things extra prepped, and in Cloyce’s interview, he says, Captain Glenn is seeing a chef out of the galley for the first time in his career. The other captains he’s worked for were laid back and chill with Cali vibes. They didn’t care. Have fun. Sit back and relax. I’ve got you. Daisy tells Danni that she placed the glasses backward, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she’s pretty direct. She wants the stews to feel good, but she has no energy to be constantly telling them that they did a great job. But everybody needs to be managed differently. The only person who should be crying on the boat is her. The guests are back, and Daisy tells Cloyce that they’re starting to sit. They’re ready when he is. He’s still chopping, and Daisy serves the wine. Amy says she feels bad for guest Grace who had no breakfast, and Grace says she’s feeling good, but she’s ready to eat. Glenn wonders if the guests have started eating, and Gary says he doesn’t think so. In Cloyce’s interview, he says he’s infrequently wrong, but he underestimated his timing. Everything is his fault. Awesome. He loves that. Grace says she has snacks upstairs. Maybe in two days she’ll be really thin. Well, that’s highly doubtful on any cruise. Unless you suffer from ongoing seasickness the entire time.

Daisy says, for f***’s sake, and finally, Cloyce gets it together. Daisy runs up with the food, and Amy declares it an amazing lunch. Emma tells Daisy that she f***ed up again. There was miscommunication between her and Gary. Keith asks how Danni is feeling, and she says she’s zen as f***. Amy decides to take a nap, and Captain Glenn asks about lunch. A guest tells him, it was so delicious, and he points out a jagged rock in the distance. He says, it’s an island called Es Vedrà. There’s no one there, and it’s said to be haunted by mermaids. One of the guests wants to go at night, and Glenn says, they’re spooking him out.

Cloyce shows Daisy the nut honey cake he ordered and says he’s making whipped cream and berries to go with it. In Daisy’s interview, she says, the most important thing is the food. That’s what the tip is based on. And now he’s going to serve a sh*tty cake from a sh*tty bakery. Good luck. It’s her 60th birthday. Bake a cake. In Keith’s interview, he says, Danni is an incredibly charming person, but it’s surface level stuff. His relationships are based on chemistry, and he has a sensitive side. He hopes they can connect on a deeper level.

Gary picks up mermaid Carla. The table is gorgeous, decorated with shells and glass beads. Carla arrives and Emma puts face jewels on Daisy. Diana walks out with perfect placement, and in Emma’s interview, she says she feels like she’s surrounded by people who are great at what they do. She’s struggling like a f***ing idiot. Daisy says she always looks like sh*t in this sh*t. She’s too old to play dress up.

Don’t listen to her. You are never too old to play dress up.

Carla puts her tail on, and Daisy radios the crew to come to the swim platform. Davide carries the mermaid to the platform, and in his interview, he says he helps during downtime and he’s glad for the mermaid. Daisy brings the guests to the platform and guest Stephanie screams, a mermaid! She runs down and hugs Carla and says she’s beautiful. The mermaid hangs out, splashes around, then swims. Daisy says, Danni is doing the cabins, but Danni says she’s been in laundry most of the time and not done much service. She did turndowns last night. Daisy tells Diana to do the cabins, and Diana whines. Daisy says, Diana is the housekeeping queen, but Diana says she doesn’t care. In Diana’s interview, she says she’s tired of making beds and cleaning poop. In Danni’s interview, she says she’s not going down without a fight. She’s going down kicking and screaming.

Daisy says, it evens out by the end of the season, but Danni says she doesn’t give a sh*t. It’s time for dinner and the guests say goodbye to the mermaid. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, after the Floatopia situation and since the captain is dining with the guests, the stakes are higher for Amy’s 60th birthday tonight. It needs to be flawless and he’s ready to rock and roll. Captain Glenn tells the guests that he’d always thought mermaids were a myth. She must have heard they were here. Daisy brings out magical mermaid martinis, which I think are basically martinis colored blue, and one of the guests sticks glittery stuff on Captain Glenn’s forehead. Gary leaves to pick up the DJ, and the guests marvel at how young Glenn looks for 63. Diana curses her life while doing cabins, and Diana and Danni apologize to each other. Diana says, all they do is complain about their job while doing their job. Gary brings the DJ to the boat and in Cloyce’s interview, he says he ordered a cake because he hates making them. He figures Amy just wants to drink because she’s an older woman and nobody in their 60s is super stoked about blowing out candles. They just want to go party. And so do women in their 20s and 30s and… WTF with this guy? I liked him at first, but no, just no. He’s so full of himself and such a know-it-all. Cloyce decides to warm up the cake in the microwave and it falls apart. Ha… ha… ha. In Daisy’s interview, she says, Cloyce took a shortcut and was being lazy. He ordered a sh*tty cake and microwaved it. Now it looks like a pile of dog sh*t.

Daisy suggests they start doing the DJ thing, then serve cake and champagne. Cloyce smooshes the cake together and puts whipped cream flowers all over it. The guests go to the upper deck and Gary brings up champagne. Bubbles float all around and the crew sings Happy Birthday. The cake is served, and Amy goes to bed, saying, nothing good ever happens after twelve o’clock. Personally, I have not found that to be true. Daisy thinks the DJ was the perfect distraction for Cloyce’s poo cake disasterphy. DJ Elliot gets in the hot tub with several guests. Guest Amber flirts shamelessly with him, and the others leave. Elliot wisely gets the hell out of there and asks for a lift back to shore. Gary obliges. Daisy tells Emma, if Cloyce has time to swim, he can make a cake, and Emma says she doesn’t understand. Um… He thinks he’s better than everyone else? And while I’m on the subject, Cloyce has one of the most irritating laughs I’ve ever heard. Like a heh-heh-heh nervous laugh. I can’t.

Cala Tarida. Last day of charter. Breakfast is served and the boat heads for Igy Marina. Diana says she needs to look at the margarita recipe again, and in Daisy’s interview, she says, Diana’s lack of knowledge of a basic popular cocktail is scary. She suggests that Diana and Danni get practice by having the crew order cocktails when they’re off charter. She’ll be the cocktail queen. The guests pack, and the boat docks. Gary instructs Emma on tying the lines, and in his interview, he says, it’s the first thing you learn working on boats and she’s been working on boats for years. Does she not care? Does she not know? Is he a bad teacher?

Gary tells Emma to put her whole weight behind it, and she says she understands. In Emma’s interview, she says, another thing to add to her list of f*** ups.

It’s time for guest departure, and they’re sad to leave as we all would be. There are hugs and thanks, and Amy says she never imagined a 60th birthday with her daughters and all her girlfriends. It was a dream party. As they leave, Glenn toots the horn as per usual. Daisy asks to talk to him and says she thinks the chef is an issue. She likes him and wants him to succeed, but thinks they’re getting the bare minimum. The captain says, it’s not his place to be on the beach. He tells Daisy to try her hand at getting what they want. She says, okay, but if he hasn’t improved after the next charter, then Glenn comes in. Glenn agrees.

It’s time for the tip meeting, and Keith says, it’s his favorite part. Captain Glenn thanks the deck crew for the Floatopia, and says, Daisy did a great job keeping the guests happy. The Under the Sea party was fun. He tells Cloyce to be professional and make meals not play on the water toys. He’s never seen that from a chef before, and he could have made better use of his time. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, that was harsh, but it’s good to be humbled and have a little wakeup call. I have the feeling he doesn’t really mean that. The tip is $25K US dollars, or $2700 each. Daisy says, at 6:30, the stews are going to make the crew one cocktail each. The crew gets dressed, and Emma thinks people are getting loose tonight. Danni and Diana get through making one cocktail, when Diana decides she’s had enough. She goes upstairs and tells Gary that she needs to rest. She wonders why they need to work. Why don’t they do it tomorrow? It’s stupid. Danni wonders where Diana went, and tells Daisy that Diana abandoned her and left her to do it on her own. Daisy says something to Diana, and in Diana’s interview, she wonders why Danni told Daisy. Danni knew where she was. She tells Danni that she wasn’t in the mood.

Emma tells Daisy that Diana was upset because she had to make drinks, and Daisy says, the girls are so sensitive. Emma thinks it’s bullsh*t, and in Emma’s interview, she says she can’t be bothered to be honest. Daisy asks Diana is she’s okay. It’s just practice. Diana says, they’re off the clock, and in Daisy’s interview, she says, normally, she’d do anything for her girls, but this is a level of sensitivity she’s never seen. They’re getting too much into their heads. To be a yachtie you need to have thick skin because you’re working with bitches and serving a-holes.

The crew goes to a restaurant, while on the boat, Captain Glenn puzzles over number puzzles. Or maybe his financial statement. It’s not clear.  Cloyce suggests they hit the f***ing clubs, and in the taxi, Emma asks if Diana fancies Gary, but Diana comes quickly back with an emphatic, no. Emma says she’s the only unf***able girl on the boat, and in Danni’s interview, she says, Emma is being dramatic and drunk. She’s bringing the vibes down so hard.

They go to the VIP section of the club, and Danni and Diana tell Daisy that Emma is being aggressive. Daisy asks Emma what she said in the taxi. Diana and Danni came back petrified. She and Emma go to the bathroom to talk, and Daisy says she’s not calling Emma out. She’s just curious. Emma says she’s not getting involved anymore, and when she comes back out, Diana asks if she’s okay. Emma says she’s fine, but Diana says, she doesn’t seem like it. She didn’t realize that Diana and Danni were upset and are now petrified of her. She’s already over this f***ing game and she’s not giving her opinion when it ends up out of context. In Diana’s interview, she says, Emma started this sh*t. She’s got no patience. Emma says she’s not getting involved in either of their sh*t anymore.

Next time, Tiffany, from The Real Housewives of Dallas, and husband Daniel are guests; Daniel is a total a-hole; Captain Glenn says, Emma isn’t getting it; and Danni says, Gary is giving her the attention she needs.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Laura tells Anna that she doesn’t think she’s going to be able to draw a full breath until she knows Lulu’s transplant is a success. Anna takes Laura’s hand.

Alexis says, it’s nice of Portia to let her and Diane use her conference room. A work lunch was a very good idea. Diane asks if it’s helping keep Alexis’s mind off of Sam’s surgery, and Alexis says, she’s achieved a balance between work and worry. Diane says, speaking of work, she has a conflict with the Blevens hearing the second week of November. She can ask for a postponement or… Alexis says she’ll cover for her. Sam will be out of the hospital by then. Diane asks if she’s sure she’ll want to because Ava’s trial is starting right around then, and she’ll want to be with the girls. Alexis says, even though Molly may no longer be speaking to her.

Heather says, Steven Lars, and he says, in the flesh. He asks how Elizabeth is, and Elizabeth says, good to see him. What is he doing here? Heather says, her son came back to her, and hugs him.

Sasha knocks at Robert’s office door, and he says, welcome. She says, he told her on the phone that the paternity test results are in, and he says he’s got them right here. She says, good. Now they’ll know for sure Holly was lying and he’s not her father. He says, we’ll see. He didn’t open it. He didn’t want her to think it had been tampered with. She thanks him and takes the envelope. She says, before they do, she just wants him to know she’s sure he’s probably a great dad… He says, it’s not about him, and she opens the envelope and looks at the paper. He asks what it says,

Cody goes into the stables, and Holly comes down the stairs. She says, hello, Cody, and he says, hello. What was she doing up there? She says, looking for him, and he says, and who is she? She says, Holly Sutton. She thought it was time they met.

Alexis says, so Sam came over to tell all of them that she’s going to be Lulu’s donor, and Molly and Kristina couldn’t stop going after each other. Diane says, one would think, given the circumstances, they could just set their differences aside, and Alexis says, one would think, yes. Not only that, they had the gall to blame her and Sam for taking sides. Sam had enough of it and left. Diane says, good for her, and Alexis says, honestly, it’s toxic. And Ric is just making it a thousand times worse. She never thought that man could surprise her, but his defending Ava when Ava is the reason her daughter lost her baby. Apparently, he doesn’t care about Molly. Diane says, let’s face it. That’s just a new low in the history of lows. Alexis says, it’s an equal opportunity disaster, and Diane asks if she’d care to be more specific. Alexis says, he won the appeal. Heather Webber’s sentence has been vacated. Diane says, vacated? Heather Webber? The woman whose body count nearly included her? That Heather Webber? She’s getting out of prison? Alexis says, today.

Heather says she honestly wondered if she’d ever see Steven again, but here he is… both of them, her family. She just can’t even believe how blessed her life is. Steven says, how about a hug for her big bro, and Elizabeth says she was trying. He was busy. They hug and Heather says she just can’t get over the coincidence. Steven says, what coincidence? and Heather says, them getting out of prison at the same time. He says, actually, he’s been out for a few months, and Heather says, oh. That’s wonderful. She wishes he’d let her know he was out… He says, they haven’t talked in years, and she says she guesses they haven’t, but here he is now. He says, they have a lot to talk about, but not here. She says she can’t even wait to get Pentenville behind her, so she knows exactly where they should go. She takes his hand and says, come on. She’ll show him. They walk off and Elizabeth doesn’t look thrilled.

Sasha tells Robert that it says he’s her father, and he says he thought it would. She says, her mother must have altered the test results, but he says, the test was done at a secure WSB lab. Even Holly couldn’t get in. Sasha says, she must have gotten somebody else to do it, and he says, if it makes her feel any better, they can do another test, but he’s convinced Holly is telling the truth for once. She’s his daughter.

Laura says she wants to thank Anna again for going all the way to Africa and putting her life on the line, and Anna says she was happy to do it. How is Lucky doing? Laura says, okay, and Anna says, the instant she told him about Lulu, he was determined to be her donor. Laura says, he was really upset to find out he couldn’t do it. He actually blamed himself. Anna says she guesses he was very relieved then that Sam stepped in, and Laura says, they all are. Anna says she was impressed with Lucky. He kept a cool head in a crisis. Laura says, he’s a Spencer, and Anna says, he is. He proved it too. He risked his life to rescue his friend Isaiah. Laura says, and because he did that, Dr. Gannon is here to save Lulu.

Sasha sits down and says she grew up thinking her father was dead. Holly told her that he was dead. He says, everybody thought the same thing at the time. Definitely, she wasn’t lying. Sasha says, but when she found out he was alive, Holly never told her the truth, and he says, she had her reasons. Maybe not good ones, but they were hers. She says, so he’s her father, and he says, better late than never. She says, which means she and Cody are first cousins, and he says, yes, they are. He’s sorry.

Cody asks if Holly was up in his room, and she says she poked her head in to see if he was home. He asks why she was looking for him, and she says, they have something in common, the Ice Princess necklace. He asks what she knows about the necklace, and she says, everything. She’s the one who stole it.

At the hospital, Terry asks Elizabeth how it went with Heather. Any problems picking her up from Pentenville? Elizabeth says, the opposite. Her brother showed up. Terry says, oh my God, that’s… Elizabeth says, unexpected? Shocking? The last thing she thought would happen? Terry says, all of the above. So where are they? Elizabeth says, Heather wanted to go to Bobbie’s for… They both say, a BLT, and Elizabeth says, and Steven wanted to talk to her alone.

Heather and Steven walk into Bobbie’s, and Heather tells the server, mademoiselle, two of your finest BLTs, s’il vous plait. They sit down and Heather says, let her look at him. He is so handsome, and she’s so happy he’s finally home. He says he doesn’t consider Port Charles his home anymore, and she says, a lot’s changed since he’s been here, but pretty soon he’ll remember everything he loves about Port Charles. He says, not going to happen, and she says she knows how disorienting it can be after years behind bars, but it’s a lot easier when they let you out then when you escape. He didn’t escape, did he? He says, no, and she says, they have so much to catch up on. She knows Elizabeth is going to put them up. Only for a short time, because soon, she’s going to be rolling in dough. They can live in the fanciest part of town. She can get them a big house with a beautiful yard, a little swing set for Ace. He says, that’s not… and she asks if he’s ever met Ace. His nephew is the cutest little thing he’s ever seen. He says he can’t live in Port Charles. He has a job in Arizona. She says, so he’s not staying? and he says, no. Neither is she.

Laura says, Anna has done so much already, she hates to ask her to do anything else, but Anna says, it’s fine. Ask away. Cyrus approaches them and says, sister. Laura says, hello, Cyrus, and he says he knew he’d find her here. She says, where else would she be? He tells Anna, good afternoon, and she says, Mr. Renault. He asks if he should sit with them while they wait, but Laura says, actually, they were right in the middle of something. He says, of course (🍷), but he would like to say a prayer for Lulu… if she doesn’t mind. Laura says, prayers are always welcome.

On the phone, Alexis says, Kristina is coming to the hospital to see Sam after the surgery, right?… Yes. Of course (🍷) Sam wants to see her. She wants to see her and Molly. Just be there, okay? Diane asks if Kristina is okay, and Alexis says, she feels bad after what happened with Sam. And she ran into Ric and Ava at the Port Charles Grill, and Kristina being Kristina… Diane finishes, she had to say something, and Alexis says, after making sure she was going to be there, Ric baited Kristina into making a scene. Now they have a bunch of neutral witness who can testify they saw Kristina being aggressive and lose control. Diane says, yeah, now they do, and Alexis says, he’s going to be merciless with her on the stand, even knowing she just almost died and lost a baby. Diane says, don’t forget, the prosecution is going to do everything in its power to protect her. And if she knows Alexis – and she does – she’s going to make sure Kristina is well-prepared. Alexis says she plans to. Enough about my misery. Let’s talk about yours. Diane asks if she means her misery that Heather Webber is getting out of prison today, but Alexis says, no. Holly Sutton is back in town. How is she feeling about that?

Cody says, Holly stole the necklace, and Holly says she did. He says, as he recalls, the police tracked the thief to a cabin, and she says, they did. He says, there was a huge, fiery explosion, and she says, oh yes, there was. He tells her, the WSB said the necklace was destroyed and the thief severely burned. She looks good for a crispy critter. She says, that’s kind of him to say, and he says he’s a charmer. She says, as she understands, he claimed to be the rightful owner of that necklace because he’s Dominique and Leopold Taub’s son. He says he was looking for a big payday. It didn’t work out. She says, he’s probably better off. Those diamonds were far more trouble than they were worth, and they were worth quite a bit. He says, were, so they are gone, and she says, who knows? He says, she might, and she says she wishes. But in regard to his misfortune, that was then, this is now. He says, so what is this? and she says, what if she can make his dreams come true?

Sasha gets up and tells Robert, this can’t be happening. She always wanted a dad. She spent her whole life wishing for one and now that she has one, she can’t be happy because it’s costing her Cody. She starts to cry and he says he understands. She says she’s so sorry. Trust her. If things were different, she’d be jumping for joy. She can’t figure out how she feels being face to face with her father. He says, for what it’s worth (🍷), he’s feeling pretty lucky, and she laughs. She says, look her up online and see how he feels, and he says he’s aware of the troubles she’s had over the years. He’d like to get to know her, but that’s up to her. She thanks him and says, he’s been very kind. She has to go. She picks up her stuff and leaves.

Cyrus says, Father, show Lulu Your mercy and give her strength so she may rejoin those who love her. Amen. Laura says, amen, and he thanks her for indulging him. He’ll leave her to her vigil. And if she needs anything… She says she knows how to reach him, but no more surprise visits. The next time he’d like to see Lulu, she wants him to call her first. He says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Anna returns with coffee and asks if Laura is all right. Laura says she’s okay and thanks Anna. Anna says that she’s relieved to see that she doesn’t trust Cyrus all that much, and Laura says she honestly doesn’t know what to make of her brother. But she also doesn’t have any illusions about him. Anna says she’s glad to hear that. Anyway, Laura wanted to ask her something. Laura says she just wanted to know whether or not Anna has heard from Valentin, and Anna says she hasn’t. Laura says, it’s not right that Charlotte isn’t here, and Anna says, she should be here.

Terry says, if Steven hasn’t been in touch with his mother, why did he show up today? and Elizabeth says, maybe he heard she was being released. They really didn’t get a chance to talk. Heather dominated the conversation. Terry says, knowing Heather, she’s not surprised. Is he staying? Elizabeth says she doubts it. He got a job in Sedona, and she thinks he likes it there. Terry says, it’s probably for the best, and Elizabeth says, even so, seeing him today, she got the feeling he was here to fix things. Terry says she’s not sure anyone can fix Heather, and Elizabeth says, although having him here means she doesn’t have to deal with Heather on her own. Terry says, how about when he leaves? and Elizabeth says she doesn’t know. Now that she’s free, who knows what she’ll do next?

Steven says he and Heather are going to make a new start in Sedona. He’s sure she can find a job, at least until her settlement comes in. She says she doesn’t want to go to Sedona. She hates turquoise jewelry. Why can’t he stay here? He says he told her, he has a job, but she says, he could get a job here. He’s a brilliant doctor. GH would be happy to take him back. He says he doesn’t live here anymore, and he loves his new job, and she says she thinks she knows what this is about. He’s still hung up on Olivia. He says he won’t talk about Olivia with her. That subject is off limits. Don’t bring her up again and don’t go near her ever. She says, if he’s that upset about it still, why is he here? Why does he want her to come live with him in Arizona? He says, they both need to make amends and they’re family. Families stick together. She puts her hand on his and says, yeah, they do. But that’s exactly why she can’t go with him. Part of her family is still here. She would love nothing more than to make up the time that they didn’t have together. She loves him, but she can’t leave Ace.

On the phone in her office, Nina says she wants the magazine to have a four-page tutorial on how to achieve the makeup look that’s on the runways during Fashion Week. And if Petra can emphasize Deception, that would be a big favor. Sasha walks in, and Nina says she’s going to need to call Petra back. She asks Sasha, what is it? and Sasha says she’s been lying to Nina for a long time and it’s big. Nina says, okay. About what? Sasha says she told Nina that her mother was dead, but the truth is, Sasha only wished she was. She’s alive and well. Nina says, okay, and Sasha says, Nina doesn’t hate her? Nina says, if she can get past Sasha lying about being her daughter, she can get past this, and Sasha thanks her. Nina asks why she’s confessing all of this now, and Sasha says, because her mother is back in her life. She’s in Port Charles, and her name is Holly Sutton.

Holly says she can’t believe Cody is satisfied as the Quartermaine stableboy. Tracy alone is reason enough to want out of this place. He says, all the Quartermaines have been good to him, but she says, it’s not exactly the life the Ice Princess would have given him, is it? He says, dreams change. He found a great family he didn’t even know he had, and he’s with an amazing woman, who for some reason, thinks he’s a good guy. She says, that sounds wonderful, but she knows a man in Westchester, a very rich man with a little gambling problem, who wouldn’t blink at losing a few million dollars. She’s asked around, and he has a certain reputation as a poker player. He says, and she doesn’t play, but she says, it’s a two-person job. He says, risk? and she says, minimal. Besides, anyone who’s played for Selina Wu can handle himself. 70/30 split. He says, 50/50, and she says, 65/35. Final offer. He asks, why me? and she says, because she recognizes a kindred spirit and thinks they’d make a good team. This mark is a sure thing. What does he say?

Laura tells Anna, it’s not just that Charlotte isn’t with her mother when she should be. It’s not good for her to live her life on the run. And the more she thinks about it, the more angry she is with Valentin that he took her.

Diane tells Alexis, she’s more than aware of Holly’s return. Fortunately, Robert assured her that any romantic feelings he may have had for Holly are well in the past. Alexis says, then she’s happy for Diane, and Diane says she knows what Alexis is thinking. Alexis says she’s not thinking anything, and Diane says, then don’t ever play poker. Alexis says, okay, then what is she thinking? and Diane says, she’s thinking that once upon a time, Robert and Holly were the great loves of each other’s lives. Alexis says, that’s not a secret, and Diane says, it’s also well in the past. Gone are the days when Robert was an international spy and Holly was a globe-trotting con artist. Now Robert is the District Attorney in a town where he’s made a life for himself. And Holly is a… Alexis says, a globe-trotting con artist, and Diane says, exactly. More importantly – most importantly – is how Robert feels about her. The two of them will be going strong long after Holly has left for her next con.

Cody tells Holly, that is tempting, but unfortunately, her info is a little out of date. He doesn’t play cards anymore. She says, in her experience, once a gambler… He says, not in his case. He’s found better ways to spend his time, and he has an amazing woman that makes everything better. So he appreciates the offer, but he’s got everything here he needs. She says, that’s a lovely fairytale, but it would be a shame if this – she gestures, indicating the stables – is where his story ended. He says, she doesn’t like happy endings? and she says she’s partial to cliffhangers (ha-ha-ha!). He says, cliffs aren’t exactly his thing anymore. More importantly, the guy that he used to be isn’t the man he wants to be anymore. He used to spend all his time looking for the next score, and when he finally gave that up, he actually found a life that made him happy. She thinks that’s a line, doesn’t she? She says she’s curious. What brought on this revelation? He says, after that whole thing with the necklace went belly up, he got news that changed his life.

Heather tells Steven that ever since Ace was a little boy, she dreamed of watching her grandson grow up. She wants to be there for all his milestones, like she couldn’t be there for him. Taking his picture on his first day of school; helping him ride his bike. She wants to be the person he comes to when he has his first crush. Steven says, those things are a few years off. Maybe by then… She says, maybe by then what? She’ll be better? The judge said she’s free. She wasn’t responsible for those actions. He says, she did commit those actions. She killed those people. She puts her head in her hands, and he asks if she doesn’t want to leave her past behind and focus on who she is now and not who she was. She says, yeah. When he puts it that way, it makes sense. He says he knows they both did very different things, but people here don’t trust him anymore. That’s why he moved to Arizona and why he wants her to move with him. They can make a new life there, without hurting anyone and without getting hurt themselves. She says, he’d really stay with her? and he says, yes. It would be just her and him. She smiles and says, okay. She’ll go with him. There are some things she should do here first, though. He says, okay.

Nina says, just so she has this straight, Sasha was raised by her grandmother because her mother Holly left Sasha with her. Sasha says, she was a con artist. She knows how hypocritical that is. Nina asks if she’s still conning people, but Sasha says, no, and Nina says, then it’s not hypocritical. Sasha says, when she was a kid, the only time she saw her mother was when her mother wanted to involve her in a scheme. Nina asks how long it’s been since she talked to Holly, and Sasha says, years. Holly reached out a few times, but she never responded. She asks if Nina thinks that was unfair of her, and Nina says, given her history, she just has a hard time not having empathy for a mother who’s estranged from her daughter. But that’s just her. No two moms are the same. Sasha says, her mom only knows how to use people. She does not deserve Nina’s empathy.

Anna says, of course (🍷) Valentin couldn’t have possibly known something like this would happen with Lulu, and Laura says, Valentin didn’t think about anything but himself. She believes he loves Charlotte, but this is so selfish. Anna says, he does know how much Charlotte means to Laura, and this decision he made to leave was made very quickly. Laura says, right, but she knows how resourceful he is. Why couldn’t he get her some kind of message to let her know Charlotte is okay? Anna says, if he truly knew the ramifications of his actions, he might have made a different choice, and Laura laughs and says, maybe. Anna promises Laura that she’ll find Valentin, and she’ll bring Charlotte back to her family.

Steven comes into the hospital with Heather and sees Elizabeth. He says, lookin’ good, Head Nurse Baldwin. She says, welcome back to General Hospital. She still can’t believe he’s here. He says he didn’t know what to expect, seeing this place again, and Elizabeth says her shift is almost over. They can go someplace else. Steven says, no. He’s all right. There’s just a lot of memories. Heather says, they’re not going to be staying long. Actually, they have some exciting news. Elizabeth says, okay… What’s the news? Heather says she doesn’t want Elizabeth to take this personally, because Elizabeth has been so very kind to her, but she actually won’t be staying with Elizabeth after all. Elizabeth covers her mouth to hide her smile, and Heather says, her son is taking her with him to Sedona. She hopes Elizabeth isn’t too upset. They’re just here to say goodbye.

Diane says, she still has a few hours left, and Alexis says she knows. She knows the surgery is routine, but she’s a mother, and surgery is surgery. Diane says, and waiting is always the hardest part, and Alexis suggests they talk about something else. Has she seen Holly yet? Diane says, you are so mean (and I literally lol). Yes, she’s seen Holly. She saw Holly with Sonny. Alexis says she didn’t know Sonny knew Holly. Maybe through Luke or something. Sonny and Holly, that’s weird. Diane says she just hopes Sonny has the good sense to say no to whatever scheme Holly is running. Alexis tells her not to hold her breath. She heard that men have a hard time saying no to Holly Sutton… Men that don’t know her in the same way Robert… Diane says, it’s fine. She trusts Robert, but she’s not stupid. She’s well aware of Holly’s powers of persuasion.

Cody tells Holly that he found out Leopold Taub wasn’t his actual father. He dodged a bullet on that one. He’s a real rotten son of a bitch. Whereas his real dad is a great guy. Does she know Mac Scorpio? She says she does know Mac. The Scorpios are like family to her. He says, then she knows that Mac is kind of a righteous dude. She laughs and says, yes, he is. Cody says he’s already disappointed Mac one too many times. The last thing he wants to do is do it again. He’s got his job, he’s got his family, and he’s got a woman he does not deserve, but he’s going to try and live up to all of it. So while he appreciates the offer, it’s a hard pass.

Nina says, Robert Scorpio? and Sasha says, they’ve been living in the same town for six years and Holly waited until now to tell her that Robert is her father. Nina says, why now? and Sasha says, because of Cody. Nina says, Cody is Mac Scorpio’s son… which makes him… Sasha says, her first cousin, and Nina says she’s so sorry. Sasha says she didn’t want to believe it when Holly first told her, but the DNA test proved it. She can’t help but wonder if this is karmic payback for her pretending to be Nina’s daughter. Nina says, come on. She’s made amends for what she did, and ever since then, she’s been a wonderful friend. Sasha says, when she wasn’t an absolute mess, and Nina says she’s done worse than Sasha, and she’s changed. And Sasha has changed. Maybe their friendship is karma’s way of rewarding them for being better people. Sasha says she never thought of it that way. She wants to think that she’s changed. Nina says, she has changed, and takes Sasha’s hands. She says, why don’t they talk about the real reason Sasha is here? Sasha says she’s here to tell Nina the truth about her mother, and Nina says, she’s also avoiding telling Cody that they can’t be together. Sasha asks how she can tell him. It’s so awful. Nina says she knows it is. It’s really hard, but she has to do it. Putting it off is just going to make it harder.

Anna goes into the conference room and thanks Alexis for waiting. Alexis says, it sounded important, and Anna says, it is. Has Valentin contacted her? Alexis says, no. Why? Anna says she’s trying to find him and Laura needs to let Charlotte know what’s going on with her mother. Alexis says she’d think Anna of all people would know where he was, but Anna says she’s afraid she doesn’t. Alexis says she’ll check the Cassadine holdings and see if there’s something Anna hasn’t checked, and Anna says, that would be amazing. Thank you. Alexis says she’ll do it as soon as she can. She thinks Laura is right. It’s time for Charlotte to come home.

There’s a knock at Robert’s office door, and Diane walks in. She asks, how is her favorite District Attorney? and he says he feels like he just got kicked in the gut by a roo. She says, why? What happened? He says he got some news. Actually, amazing news. Diane says, let’s hear it, and he says he’s got another daughter. She says, another daughter? Has he met this foundling? He says, yes, and so has she, and Diane says she’s intrigued. Who is it? He says, Sasha Corbin, and her mouth drops open. He says he knows. He’s surprised too. She says, that’s a word for it. Did Sasha know? He says, she thought her father was dead. Her mother just recently said, that is not the case. Diane asks, who’s her mother? and he says, Holly. Diane throws her hand up and says, yeah.

Holly tells Cody that he’s walking away from more than a million dollars. She hopes this woman of his is worth it. He says, she’s worth everything. Sasha is the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Holly looks pained, and he asks, what’s wrong? Sasha walks in and asks what the hell Holly is doing here. Holly says, sweetheart… and Sasha says, no. Not one word. Now get out. Cody says, Sash… but Holly says, it’s fine. She’ll go. Sasha yells, out! and Holly leaves. Cody says, so Sasha clearly knows her, and Sasha says she knows her all right. He says, fill me in. What did she do to Sasha for Sasha to tear into her like that? Sasha says, that woman is her mother, and something is very, very wrong.

Heather tells Elizabeth that Steven helped her to see that it wouldn’t be right for her to stay in Port Charles. Not for her or the people that she hurt. Elizabeth says she thinks that’s wise, but Heather says, Port Charles is the only place she’s ever known as home. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye. Laura comes out of the elevator, and Heather runs up to her. Heather says she’s so glad Laura is here.

On Monday, Dante asks if Steven thinks he’s actually going to get Heather to leave; Nina tells Drew that they have a major problem; Sonny says, if he’s going to help Holly, she has to make it worth his while; and Cody says he doesn’t want to be Sasha’s friend.

🎃 I’ve Got a Little List…

As promised, my list of good scares, and a few laughs, for Halloween. Trick ‘r Treat – an anthology of several stories tied together by mysterious figure Sam (see below). You will never look at a school bus the same way again; 13 Ghosts (2001) – a widower inherits a house that’s already inhabited. The amazing house alone is worth a look, but the ghosts are creepy AF (see below for their bios).; Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse – a drive-in movie double feature of Death Proof and Planet Terror, about a serial killer (remarkably played by Kurt Russell) and a zombie invasion respectively; Reeker – a better film than the unfortunate title would suggest. Basically, a road trip gone bad, but it kept me guessing until the end; Cabin in the Woods – a friend group takes a vacation in a cabin where there’s more than meets the eye. Not only is it funny, it has some of the best special effects I’ve ever seen. I’d read the book first and thought, there’s no way the final scene could be translated to film. I was wrong.; Dawn of the Dead (1978 and 2004) – both films are great in different ways, but both involve zombies invading a deserted mall. While the 2004 version is missing the statement on consumerism, it’s still an excellent film and I love Ving Rhames; John Carpenter’s They Live – the late Roddy Piper discovers subliminal messages and an alien invasion by using a pair of dark glasses. Creepy on more than one level.; and The Midnight Hour – an old TV movie, but my absolute Halloween favorite. Some high school students unleash the dead by reciting an ancient incantation in a graveyard. I have a bootleg DVD, since it’s been hard to find in the past, but it’s on YouTube now. Somewhat corny, but fun, with moments of great creepiness, and a little bit sad at the end, this one just screams Halloween to me.

October 24, 2024 – Sam Is Prepped For Surgery, Doubtful, Steven Lars, Just a Bowl Of Oranges, Salty Talk, Movie Watch, On Backwatch, Full Circle, Vampire Review, Matching & Hour

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Jason goes to Sonny’s office and asks, what’s up. Sonny says, it’s time to tell him what went on in Africa, and holds up the diamond.

At the Surf Lodge, Alexis, Danny, and Scout talk about Sam’s surgery. Scout says, it’s a big deal. Sam is saving Lulu’s life.

Jack calls Carly, and when she answers, he says he was starting to think she was avoiding him. She says she’s in the middle of something, but he says he needs to see her right now. She says, now is not a good time. She’s at GH. Jack says he insists. This is important. She says, so is this, and goes in to see Sam.

Laura tells Lulu that she knows it’s hard to hang in there, but help is on the way thanks to Sam. She’ll be here and Lucky will be here when Lulu comes out. She can do this. Dante and Rocco arrive, and Laura says, they’ll all be here waiting for her.

Isaiah is in the locker room, earbuds in, when Lucas says, sorry to interrupt. Isaiah says he likes to visualize a procedure before he does it, and Lucas says, they all have their pre-op rituals. He knew a surgeon who had to wear the same shoes and eat two banana muffins before surgery. Isaiah asks if Lucas is ready, and Lucas says he and Sam have the easy part. Isaiah says, it’s going to take all of them to give Lulu the help she needs. He leaves, and Brad opens his locker, finding a bag from Eckerd’s. He takes out a sweet roll and bites into it. Brad comes in and says, Lucas used to always have Eckerd’s before surgery. Unless he’s hungry for something else.

Ric visits Heather and she says she misses Alexis. He says, that’s something you don’t hear very… ever, and she says, her roommate isn’t good at conversation, but she does make a delicious toilet wine. He says, you win some, you lose some, and she says she wouldn’t mind winning some. Did the judge do what he was supposed to? Ric says, he did. The judge vacated her sentence. She’s going free.

Ellizabeth tells Portia that she heard about Heather, and asks if there’s anything she can do to help. Portia says, it’s enough that Elizabeth understands how she feels, but if Plan A fails, she might take Elizabeth up on it. Elizabeth asks, what’s Plan A?

Curtis’s assistant tells him that his 9 o’clock is here, and he says, let them in. No interruptions. Steven Webber (aka Steven Lars) comes in and they shake hands. Curtis says, Heather Webber’s prodigal son.

Portia says, they have a big day they need to focus on, and Elizabeth says, they have to get ready to make sure the surgery goes smoothly. Portia says, Curtis is taking care of Heather, and Elizabeth tells her to be careful. Heather has a powerful ally in Ric, and if he sees someone moving against his client, he’ll respond in kind. Portia says, Heather is the one who needs to be careful.

Steven says he’s not a doctor anymore, but Curtis says he was highly skilled before he was incarcerated. Steven says, and financially stable. He thanks Curtis for paying his way here, and Curtis says, it’s the least he could do. Steven says, that depends on why Curtis is asking. He doesn’t have good memories of Port Charles and he’s not planning on staying long. Curtis says he’s not planning on standing in Steven’s way, and Steven asks what he can do for Curtis. Curtis says, when Steven does leave, he wants him to take his mother with him.

Heather asks if Ric is messing with her, but he says he got the call last night. She asks if she’s going to a halfway house or a minimum-security facility with a nice volleyball court, but he says, she’s being released. As soon as the paperwork is done, she’s out of here. She asks if she has to check in with a parole officer, get drug tests, or wear an ankle monitor, and he says, her violence stemmed from a medical condition that’s been eradicated, so she no longer needs those constraints. She says she’s free? Totally free? He says, yes, and she says, oh my God. She jumps up and hugs him. She says she got her second chance, and he’d better believe she’s going make the most of him. She kisses him on the lips, like, mwah, and hugs him again.

Lucas says he thought he made the boundaries clear, and Brad says he brought Eckerd’s for the staff and wanted to make sure Lucas had what he needed for his pre-op routine. He was just being supportive. Lucas says he doesn’t want any misunderstanding, and Brad says he’ll throw it away, but Lucas says he already took a bite. His towel falls and he grabs it, but Brad says, relax. It’s nothing he hasn’t seen before… but that mole is new. He should get it checked out.

Laura tells Dante and Rocco that Sam is going to be prepped for surgery. If there’s anything they want to say, now’s the time. Rocco goes to Lulu’s bed and sits. He takes her hand, and says, it’s me. Rocco.

Carly asks how Sam is, and Sam says she just wishes they could get this show on the road. Carly says, waiting is the worst. It will take a miracle for Lulu to pull through, but what matters is Lulu getting a chance because of Sam. Sam says she’s just doing what anyone would do, and Carly says, if Sam needs anything, tell her. Sam says, Carly didn’t come to chat. She wants something. She always does. Carly admits she does. She wants to say thank you.

Jason asks where the diamond came from, and Sonny says, Africa. The same plane that brought Jason back. How did he find Lucky? Jason hands back the diamond and says, Jenz Sidwell was holding Lucky captive. They met at a casino in Nairobi and Sidwell invited them back to the camp. Sonny says, smart, but Jason says, not really. They’d been made at the casino and Sidwell took them back to have them killed. Sonny asks how they got out, and Jason says, there was a WSB drone strike. Sonny says, it’s nice to know they’re good for something, and Jason says, it saved their lived. When everything went to hell, they got out. Sonny says, but not alone, and Jason says, Holly was working an angle with Sidwell, but at the end, she helped them escape. She  had the diamond? Sonny says, plural, and Jason asks, how many? Sonny says, enough to know Holly is trouble, but the kind of trouble that might be worth it.

Heather says, the first thing she’s going to do is go to Kelly’s for a BLT, and Ric says, she needs to think about the state of her finances. Probably look into getting a job. She says, what about the millions from the quacks who gave her a poison hip? but he says, even if they get a settlement, it could take a while. In the meantime, she needs to support herself. She says, in the words of Scarlett O’Hara, she’ll think about it tomorrow, and he says, today, she needs a place to crash. Does she know anybody who will take her in?

Steven says he was hoping to have nothing to do with Heather, and Curtis asks if he’s aware of what’s happening. Steven says, Elizabeth caught him up, and asks if Heather got a reduced sentence. Curtis says, her sentence was vacated, and she’s being released today. He’s guessing that’s not happy news. Steven says, their relationship is complicated, and Curtis says, Heather wanted his daughter killed and she’s been allowed out in the world. Steven says, without the medical device that made her violent, and Curtis asks if Steven would bet his daughter’s life on it. He wants them to reunite far away from Port Charles. Steven says, Heather gave birth to him, but she’s hardly been his mother, and Curtis says he thought Steven might feel that way. So he’s prepared to make it worth Steven’s while.

Sonny tells Jason that Holly had a bag of them she wanted him to offload. He’s thinking the haul is close to a hundred million. Jason asks what he’s going to do, and Sonny says he’s inclined to work with her. Jason asks if Sonny knows if they’re registered, and Sonny says, no. There are no qualifiers; they’re stolen. Jason says, Sidwell might disagree, and Sonny asks if he didn’t die in the drone strike, but Jason says, he survived and he’s back in the US. He’s guessing Sidwell is looking for Holly.

Alexis tells Scout to go wash up, and Scout leaves. Alexis tells Danny that he’s a good big brother, and he says he’s the oldest. It’s his job. Alexis says, it’s not easy. His sister can be a little a lot, and when he needs to step up, Danny does. She thinks Danny is awesome and so does his mom.

Carly says, it’s no small thing, and Sam says she’s doing it for Dante and Rocco. Carly says, it means the world to all of them, and Sam says she may actually start to believe Carly can dish out compliments. She may have to bank this one. Carly says, please do, when Jack pops in and says he needs a word with Miss Spencer.

Laura says, Rocco is getting so big, and Dante wonders if Lulu will recognize him. She says, he was just a kid when the accident happened that put Lulu in a coma. He’s had to spend so much time without her. Rocco tells Lulu that he brought this for her, and puts a medal in her hand. He says his first cross country meet. He won. It’s all about endurance. Sometimes you feel like you’re not going to make it, but never give up. He thinks he got that from her. They’re so close, don’t give up now.

Outside, Carly tells Jack that her cousin is having a very complicated liver transplant. She was with the woman who’s going to be her donor. Jack says, Carly’s support is commendable. Why doesn’t she do that and then come to his office? She asks what he needs, and he says he needs Jason’s cooperation in giving him vital information from the rescue. She says, just ask him, and he says, it’s clear Jason is holding something back. She says, good luck, and he says, apparently, Jason made a nasty enemy in Jenz Sidwell when he was in Africa. He’s a gem of a human being and he’s now in the US, probably on his way to Port Charles. She asks what he expects her to do, and he says, she begged him to facilitate a rescue that could turn into a full-blown international incident. Doesn’t it seem reasonable to help? She asks why he went out on a limb for her, and he says, if she has to ask, she’s not as smart as he thought she was.

Sonny wonders how Sidwell survived, and Jason says, Lucky didn’t want him dead, and after the drone strike, there was no time. Sonny says, Laura would be proud, and Luke would be rolling in his grave. If he gets it done fast, Holly can be gone before Sidwell connects them to it. But he can’t do it today. He has to be somewhere. Sonny steps out, and Jason’s phone rings. It’s Carly.

Heather says her best bet is Laura taking her in, but Ric says, Laura is going through a family crisis. Heather says she could knock on Alexis’s door. They got along and she’s sure Alexis can give her an air mattress, but Ric says, she’s going through a family crisis as well that’s connected to Laura. Heather says, Laura can drop her off at the Quartermaines. She could hang out there for weeks before they know she’s there. Ric says, when they do notice, they’ll have her arrested. Think. Is there anyone she can call?

Isaiah sees the Eckerd’s box and asks if it’s for anybody. Portia tells him to help himself, and Brad says he’s glad they’re enjoying them. Isaiah says, duty calls, and Brad says he’s just about through. He’s going to the Woodchuck’s game. Elizabeth says, he’s leaving early for a baseball game? and Brad tells them that he could say, never mind, but Portia tells him, have fun, and he leaves.

Curtis says, what if he could get Steven’s medical license reinstated? He has a friend running for office who has influence. Steven says he can’t throw Heather over his shoulder and drag her out, but Curtis says he’s sure she’ll go willingly. He knows family means everything to her and he’s all she has left. Steven says, she has a grandson, but Curtis says, Laura will give her limited access and if it’s not good, she’ll cut Heather off altogether. All Steven has to do is crack the door open. Steven says, but he’ll be the one who has to keep her in line. He doesn’t want to be responsible for what his mother does. Curtis says, then he’ll be responsible for what becomes of her.

Alexis says, Sam has visitors, and Scout gives her some flowers. Sam says she noticed they don’t have schoolwork with them, and Danny says, it’s in the car. They want to stay here and not go to school. Sam tells Alexis not to let them work her. Stay strong. Alexis says, Sam is amazing, saving a life. There’s not many who would do that, but it’s no surprise that Sam is.

Dante and Rocco are in the waiting area, when Laura joins them. She hugs Rocco, and Dante says he’s got to get Rocco to school on time. Rocco says he’s not going, but Dante says they talked about this. Laura says, it’s a good distraction. His mom will still be in surgery after school. Rocco says he wants to be here. Please? Isaiah approaches, and Dante says he’ll make a deal with Rocco. They’re going to see Sam and it’s cool if Rocco does his schoolwork here. They leave and Laura asks Isaiah if everything is okay. Isaiah says he wanted to let her know, it’s time.

Carly asks why Jack keeps helping her, and he says, chivalry. She says, he doesn’t do anything without an ulterior motive, and he says, by definition, Anna is bitter and cynical, but Carly says, she’s not wrong. Jack says, Carly is cynical too. Almost agent worthy. She asks if he’s trying to recruit her, and he says, her talents could be put to better use than a concierge. Jason arrives and says, Carly didn’t tell him that Jack would be here. Carly says, she needs a favor, and Jason says, who’s asking? Carly or Jack? Carly says, both.

Portia says she realized Terry hiring Brad was in the hospital’s best interest, and Elizabeth asks if she thinks Brad is playing Terry. Portia says, does she? and they see Lucas headed toward them. They get quiet and he asks if they’re talking about him. Elizabeth says, they were talking about Brad, and Lucas asks, what’s he done now? Elizabeth says, pastries, and he says, bastard. Elizabeth says, Brad got his job back on Terry’s recommendation. Britt was Brad’s best friend and Terry was Co-Chief of Staff with her. Britt is dead and Brad needed a job. You do the math.

Curtis tells Steven, it’s about family. He’s protecting his and Steven needs to take responsibility for his. He thinks Steven and Heather should leave town and go far away. He’ll supplement Steven’s income until he’s on his feet. Provided Heather goes with him and stays gone. Steven says, and if he can’t convince her? and Curtis says he has alternative outcomes that are much less pleasant. (Very disappointed in Curtis.)

Elizabeth answers the hospital phone, and Heather says she can’t believe she got Elizabeth on the first try. Elizabeth asks why she’s calling, and Heather says she doesn’t know if Elizabeth heard, but she’s being released from Pentenville. Before she asks, it’s 100% legal. Elizabeth says, congratulations, and Heather thanks her. She says her head is spinning, and Elizabeth asks what she wants. Heather says she was wondering if Elizabeth can pick her up at prison… for Franco’s sake, when Ric walks in.

Lucas tells Brad that he hopes the Woodchucks do better than last time in the playoffs, and Brad asks if he wants something. Lucas asks if Brad manipulated his way back into the job. People are saying he played Terry. Brad asks, which is it? Keep it professional and stay away from each other or be in each other’s business. Lucas says, Brad’s right. Sorry. Brad says he did mention Britt, but he needed a job. He’s not proud of it. Lucas says, Britt would probably be proud, and Brad says he hopes so. He’s doing the best he can.

Elizabeth asks why Ric doesn’t pick Heather up if she’s worth millions, and Ric says, he’s going to be in court. Elizabeth says she wants nothing to do with Heather, and he says, just say no. Elizabeth says, they both know if Heather is left alone, she’ll find trouble. What does he want her to do? Take Heather into her home? Ric says he doesn’t like that idea, and Elizabeth says she was looking forward to ice cream and binging Dance Moms. Ric says he has an idea. He’ll move in too. Elizabeth laughs and says, that’s the opposite of helping.

Isaiah tells Laura that Lulu has been given anticoagulants to minimize the risk, but there are no guarantees. Laura says her daughter has been fighting for her life since she was a tiny girl and winning. She takes his hands and says, if he gives her the chance today, she will win again.

Alexis tells Sam that they have a standing invite to dine at the Quartermaines. She’s torn. There’s free food, which she loves, but there’s also… Sam says, Tracy. Sonny comes in and says he should have known the party was in here. He’s proud of Sam. Alexis says, so proud, and Sam thanks him. Danny says he knows she’s tired of hearing it, but she’s a real hero. Dante joins them and asks, who made Sam cry? Rocco has something he wanted to say. Rocco says, thank you so much, and Sam says she hasn’t done anything yet. Rocco says, she’s saving his mom’s life and he doesn’t know how he’ll repay her. She says, Rocco, Danny, Scout, Dante, and her mom, all of her people, including Sonny, have been so good to her. She’s just glad to be able to return the favor.

Carly says, Jack needs to know what happened in Africa, and Jason says he told Jack, but Jack says, he omitted some key details. Carly says, Jack came through for them. He’s the reason they got home. He saved their lives, and she owes him. She thinks Jason does too. Please help him. She leaves.

Jason says he told Jack everything he knew at the time, and Jack says, very good. He’s being honest while disclosing next to nothing. There was more to Jason’s adventure than he knew at first. Jason asks if Holly is up to something, and Jack says, she took something valuable. Jason says, diamonds. She stole a fortune. Jack says, thus Sidwell’s revenge tour, and Jason asks if they’re done. Jack tells him to thank Carly and tell her to watch her step. Jason says, nobody hurts Carly. Bad things tend to happen to people who do.

On the phone, Portia says, Curtis is taking care of Heather. She’ll call Marshall after she speaks to him. Curtis comes in and nods. Portia smiles and goes to him. She throws her arms around him.

The prison gates open and Heather says goodbye to the guard. She sees Elizabeth walking toward her, and Steven approaches from the other side. She says, Steven Lars, and he says, hello, mother.

Curtis says, it took some convincing, but Steven is on board. He’s going to take his mom and get out of town and out of their lives. Portia asks if he thinks it will work, and he says he doesn’t think Heather will be able to resist. It’s over. It’s finally over. She hugs him and sees Brad going to the elevator.

Sam is wheeled out, and Lucas asks if she’s ready. She says, as long as she’s got him, and he says, she’s hard to refuse. There are some people who want to wish her luck. The whole gang is there, and Laura says she can’t possibly thank Sam enough. Sam says she’s glad to do it, and Danny says, kick butt. Scout tells her, what he said, and Rocco says, she’s his hero. Alexis says she loves Sam so much, and Dante kisses her. the elevator opens and Jason joins them. He says, she’s got this, and she says, piece of cake. Jason puts his hand on Danny’s shoulder, and Lucas says, the OR is ready. There are goodbyes and I love yous, and Sam says she loves them. She holds her fist up as she’s wheeled away.

Tomorrow, Anna tells Laura that she’ll find Valentin and bring Charlotte back to her family; Nina asks why someone is confessing now; Steven tells Heather, that subject is off limits; and the paternity results are in.

🩺 But It’s Her House That Alan Gave Her…

This is a real shame. I can understand the accidents she had. I’m pretty sure I’m going to meet my end by tripping over a dog toy, a dog bed, or an actual dog.

🍊 A Dose Of Vitamin OC…

Jenn confronted Tamra and in Jenn’s interview, she came to the conclusion that Tamra had no soul. I concur. She also thought Heather should get out of Tamra’s ass and be her own human being. In Emily’s interview, she said when Tamra didn’t respect someone, she had no boundaries. Shannon met with her daughters and they hung out in London.

The group had an English dining etiquette lesson, and in Tamra’s interview, she said, there were too many rules. Here’s etiquette for you. She then gave us the finger. Seriously, why bother? Immediately after the lesson, Tamra called Shannon a liar and a drunk. Gina told Tamra to stop with the alcohol thing, and Jenn seconded it. In Fancy Pants Heather’s interview, she said, everyone gets an F. As happens occasionally, I agree with Fancy Pants.

Shannon needed an enema, which Katie graciously administered. Constipation, the great equalizer. Just as uncomfortable no matter what your income. And just in case you’re ever thinking about it, I’m not that friend. Staying on brand, Tamra told Fancy Pants that Katie’s daughter was watching Emily’s kids, and they said they didn’t like Fancy Pants because she was mean to their mom. When Fancy Pants relayed this to Emily, Emily said it was Katie’s daughter who told her kids that Fancy Pants was mean. She told them not to talk like that again. She told Fancy Pants that she’d never involve her kids in an adult situation and would never talk negatively about her friends in front of them. Fancy Pants said, Katie f***ed with the wrong marine. She was done.

In a rare humorous moment, Gine hit the fire alarm in a restaurant, thinking it was a device to flush the toilet. Sitting outside, Shannon said she’d told Fancy Pants about texting Johnny J. after the accident and shown her the photo in confidence. Fancy Pants made a million excuses for passing that information along, and said she felt that Shannon was controlling the narrative, but eventually apologized for breaking Shannon’s trust. She claimed she didn’t know it was private.

Meanwhile at the table, Tamra said Shannon told her that there was a rumor about Gina throwing Travis down the stairs. I’m sure there’s a big ball joke in there somewhere, but I’ve had a long day. In Gina’s interview, she said, Travis’s ex was telling lies. She wasn’t appreciating Tamra’s interrogation since she’d just stopped living with the love of her life to get away from this insanity. Tamra said Shannon had come between her and Jenn and was now trying to come between her and Gina. When Shannon returned to the table, Gina said, Tamra told her that Shannon was trying to dig up information on her before the Reunion. Shannon said, Tamra was the one who told her about the business with the stairs, but in Tamra’s interview, she said, when the story circulated in June of 2022, she and Shannon weren’t speaking. Shannon said, Tamra always got super drunk and talked sh*t about people, and in Jenn’s interview, she said, Tamra didn’t know how to be a friend or what an apology meant. She was a mean girl bully and thrived on it.

Shannon walked out, and in one of those ironic life moments, the birthday cake came out, along with singing servers. Tamra blew out the candles, and in Shannon’s interview, she said she wasn’t allowing toxic people to penetrate her life anymore. Tamra was evil. Again, agreed.

Katie summed it up best when she said in her interview, has there ever been a dinner with these women that’s pleasant? Nope. I don’t think so.

Next time, Jenn and Ryan have a wedding (not sure if it’s real); Jenn thinks she f***ed it all up; and Gina says, Jenn ruined her own life.

👀 Forgotten Watch…

No surprise I forgot I watched this last weekend, since I almost forgot I wanted to watch it. I did kinda, sorta watch the first two. Frankly, I saw a sex scene I can never unsee in I can’t remember which other one, and a disturbing dance with a scarecrow, so it’s doubtful I’ll rewatch those. But I love an 80s atmosphere, so I was looking forward to this one. I definitely liked this the most out of the three, and what’s not doubtful is Mia Goth’s excellent performances. She did not disappoint and the story was a good one. Probably not for those with weak stomachs though.

October 23, 2024 – Heather’s Release Brings a Big Reaction, Could Happen, Salty Talk, Goodbye To Michael, More Weekend Watching, My Tiny Obsession & Nightmare

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Holly says she doesn’t know Sonny well, but Luke held him in very high regard. He says, the feeling was mutual, and Holly says, that’s why she’s here. Any friend of Luke’s is a friend of hers. He seems unsure if that translates into doing business. He says, she dropped Luke’s name right away, so she must be in some kind of trouble.

Anna calls Jason and tells him that Sidwell was spotted in Miami. He needs to watch out.

Anna goes to Robert’s office, and he says, she knows. She says, he has another daughter.

Isaiah finds Lucas in the breakroom, and says, they have surgery tomorrow. Is he ready for it?

At The Savoy, Ric says he received a call from Judge Orvis, and he’s ruled in Heather’s favor. He’s vacating her conviction. Trina asks what that means, and he says, tomorrow, Heather is a free woman. Portia says, no. She knew it would happen. Ric says he never intended for this to happen. He wanted to present the new evidence to the court. That’s it.  Curtis asks what he thought would happen, and Ric says, that Heather would be relocated to a minimum-security facility or sent to a mental health center. Curtis says, he exceeded his goal, and Ric says he never thought the judge would vacate her sentence. Portia says, he knew, but didn’t care, and Ric says, Heather is no longer suffering from metallosis. Portia says, so she’s not a threat, and he says, that’s the professional medical assessment. Portia says, Heather murdered five people trying to get to Trina. She thanks him for unleashing the monster that put her daughter’s life at risk.

Robert says, Holly told her, and Anna says, Holly came to see him. If she thought she was going to get sympathy or that she’d run interference with Robert, she was wrong on both fronts. Anna says she knows that makes her a hypocrite, but he says, it’s nothing like her and Robin. She says she thinks Holly would disagree. To be fair, she did lie, but she finds this appalling. He and Holly have so much history, and he’s a wonderful father. Why hide his daughter from him? He says, Holly thought he was dead, and Anna says, what about when she found out he was alive? He says, her intent wasn’t to hurt him, and she says, he’s going to forgive Holly, isn’t he?

Holly says she has delicate merchandise to move and needs Sonny’s assistance. Luke isn’t the only person they have in common. Did Jason mention their heroic adventures in Africa? Sonny says, Jason told him that he brought Lucky home, but he doesn’t recall Jason mentioning her. Holly says, Jason is a man of few words, and Sonny says, they both are. She says she’s glad, since that means they agree on discretion. She prefers to keep their negotiation between them. He says he still doesn’t know what the negotiation is, when Diane comes in and stops short when she sees Holly.

Isaiah says, it looks like he and Lucas had the same idea. Bobbie’s was closed, so he came here to review his notes. Lucas says he’ll get Isaiah after hours status. Bobbie Spencer was his mother. Isaiah says, his mom is a legend at this hospital.

Portia asks what Ric has to say for himself, and Ric says he’s spent time with Heather. He got medical proof. He had her blood work tested at several labs, and the overwhelming consensus… Curtis says, he’s not in the courtroom, and Josslyn tells Dex, they should go. He leaves with her, and Ric says, this isn’t what he wanted. Curtis says, he wanted a check. How much are they talking about from a civil case about Heather’s faulty device? Her vacate will help win the settlement. Ric says, that’s a separate issue, and Curtis says he believed Ric because of his relationship to Molly. He never thought Molly’s father was capable of unleashing a murderer on his daughter for profit. Molly says, blaming Ric isn’t the answer, and Curtis says, if Ric isn’t to blame, who is?

Sonny asks what he can do for Diane, and she says she was in the neighborhood and that she’d pay a routine social visit, but she sees he’s otherwise engaged. They can catch up later. Lovely to see Holly. Holly says, her too, and Diane leaves. Holly says she can guess where Diane is headed, but Sonny says, it’s none of his business. She asks if he socializes with this attorney, and he asks if she wants to conduct business. She says she’s keen on securing the transaction, but needs assurance, and he says, it’s more important to her than to him. He’ll consider helping her, but tell him what he has to do for her. She dumps the diamonds on his desk (funny, they don’t sound like diamonds), and Sonny picks one up.

Anna says, no matter the years, Holly’s priority has always been Holly, and Robert says, Sasha would agree. She demanded a paternity test. She’s desperate to prove she’s not his kid. Anna asks if he thinks Holly lied, and he says, why take a chance on something that’s easily proved? What would be the point? To hurt Sasha? To hurt him? Anna says she doesn’t see what could hurt him more than the truth.

Lucas says he studied portal vein thrombosis in med school, but Isaiah has performed transplants that involved it before. Isaiah asks Lucas to walk him through his strategy. How does he plan to perform surgery on his sister and cousin?

Molly tells Curtis and Portia that no one understands more than she does. Her office prosecuted the case, but if an appeals judge hears it, it’s up to the judge as to what justice looks like from the facts presented. This is not on her father. TJ says, he didn’t have to be Heather’s lawyer. He didn’t have to take the case. He walks off, and Ric and Molly start to follow. Curtis asks if Ric has filed suit to collect his blood money, and Ric says he’s sorry this happened. He leaves with Molly, and Portia says, it’s an absolute nightmare. Curtis tells Trina that she’s coming home with them, and Trina tells him, thanks, but there’s no way she’s moving back home.

Back at his apartment, Dex asks if Josslyn is okay, and Josslyn says, Heather being released was not the news she was expecting. She can’t believe it. He says, Trina’s parents are shaken up, and she says, of course (🍷). Trina is the reason Heather committed those insane acts. He says, she didn’t succeed with Trina or Josslyn, and Josslyn says, thanks to him and Britt. He says he wishes he’d gotten there sooner. Britt would still be alive. She asks if he ever thinks… wishes he’d killed Heather, and he says, all the time.

Portia says she thinks it would be safer if they were all at home together under one roof, and Trina says, strength in numbers? Curtis says he needs Trina where he can protect her, and Trina says she knows he wants to keep her safe and she wants to be. Heather being released isn’t her choice, but she spent a year being terrified and letting Esme and Heather control her. She refuses to go back. She’s going home to her apartment.

Lucas tells Isaiah, it wasn’t his choice. His sister asked him, and Sam is hard to say no to. Isaiah asks if he’s nervous, but Lucas says, no. Isaiah will be doing the heavy lifting. Which begs the question, why is he the surgeon? Why did he sign on to a transplant that has a very high likelihood of failure? Isaiah says, the same reason. Lucky asked him to. Lucky is his best friend and if Lucky’s sister has a shot in hell of making it through this, she’s going to need him. He’ll see Lucas in the morning. He leaves.

At the apartment, Molly says, Ric should go before TJ comes home, but he says he doesn’t want to leave her alone. She says she’s used to it. He’s been their most recent excuse to run from each other. He says he’s sorry and thanks her for defending him. She didn’t have to. She says she knows. He didn’t have to take the case. He says he didn’t mean to hurt anyone, but the law is the law. She says she’s sure his motion was brilliant, and he says, now Heather is going free. She says she prays he’s right and she’ll be a functioning member of society. Either way, it’s too late for regrets. He thanks her for understanding, and she says, but it’s not too late for dropping Ava as a client.

Robert says, it breaks his heart that Sasha is praying he’s not her father, and Anna says, it’s not personal. She doesn’t know him. He says he knows her. The minute she walked in, he knew she was his daughter. Anna asks, how? and he says, she has his mother’s eyes.

Holly tells Sonny, there’s no record of the diamonds. No serial numbers, no way to trace them. If they’re moved, they can’t be tracked. He says, somebody had them before her and they’ll want them back, and she says, hence the desecration and speed. He asks who she’s running from.

TJ comes into the breakroom and tells Lucas that the hospital is a better option than home. Lucas says, work provides distraction, and TJ says, it figures Lucas would bust him for running away, but Lucas says he moved to another state to avoid the mess of his life. If TJ wants to hide out, go ahead. TJ says, at least it’s not a bar, and Lucas says, if he’s here, he can do good and make patients well so they can go home to their families. TJ says he’s avoiding his, and Lucas says, at least he’s not at a bar.

Molly says, Ric took Ava’s case, but he could easily cut her loose. Ric says, why? and she says, maybe because Ava is the reason her baby is dead, but he says he doesn’t believe that’s true. She asks if he wants to debate the cause, and he says, that’s why he can’t drop the case. He’s doing it for her.

Holly tells Sonny that she prefers her valuables to be liquid. She’s in a rush to get out of Port Charles for personal reasons. He says he doesn’t usually handle diamonds. He’ll have to make some calls. She asks if that means he wants to do business, and he says he may be able to help her… on one condition. He gets a sizeable cut.

Anna asks if Robert is all right and he says he will be. She says she needs to follow up on something, and he asks if it’s okay if he’s the one to tell Robin. She says, of course (🍷). Robin always wanted a sister. She leaves.

Dex says he wants Josslyn to be safe, but she says, there’s only so much he can do. He’s a cop now. He says he’s not like other cops. He’s been in combat. He’s killed before, and some people need to be stopped. She says, Heather is one, and he says, if Heather thinks of hurting her, it will be the last thing she ever does.

Portia says, they should force Trina to come home, but Curtis says, she’s an adult and trying to regain control of her life. Portia says, she can’t if she’s dead, and he tells her, don’t say that. She says, it could happen. Clearly, the justice system cares less than Ric. It’s infuriating, and she wonders if Ric would be as blasé if Molly was in danger. Curtis says he doesn’t see how a judge can’t tell Heather is a danger, and she says she wants to ask him if Trina was Josslyn or Molly if the decision would be the same. If a young white woman was the obsession of a serial killer, and not a young Black woman, would Heather be going free?

There’s a knock at the apartment door, and Trina gets a mallet out of the kitchen. She asks who it is, and it’s Gio. He says he thought he’d come by and see if she was okay. She lets him in and says she thought she was, but she’s not.

Diane goes to Robert’s office and says, he’ll never guess who she saw together. He says, try him, and she says she went to Sonny’s office, and when she saw what she saw, she made it clear that she was only there for a social visit, so no attorney/client privilege. He asks what she saw, and she says, Sonny meeting with Holly.

Holly says, define sizable, and Sonny says, 30%. He’s taking the risk. She says she risked her life for them, and he says he can’t move them. Why here? She says she hopes this business transaction is the first of many. She wants to get the relationship off on the right foot. He laughs and says, she’s something else. Beauty, charm, and that accent… She’s not his type. He needs time to consider it. She tells him, don’t take too long, and takes out a diamond. She says, a deposit, in good faith, and hands it to him. She leaves and he looks at it.

Lucas tells TJ that Sam was adamant that he be her surgeon, and asks if Molly has said anything about him operating on her sister. TJ says, Molly doesn’t share much with him these days. He’d say they’re drifting apart, but she’s pulling away. Lucas says, grief is tricky. It can bring people closer or do the opposite. TJ says, Molly wasn’t not there when they cleared the nursery. She wasn’t there when they picked out the burial plot. Lucas says, TJ still feels alone, and TJ says, tonight felt normal. They were at a party for his granddad. Long story short, Heather Webber is going free and Ric Lansing made it happen. Molly defended Ric and he saw more emotion from her defending her father than from anything they’ve been through. She was present and focused, and she hasn’t been there for him once since their baby died.

Ric says he’s doing it for Molly, but Molly says, it makes no sense. Ava is responsible for her child’s death. Ric says he thought she blamed Kristina, and Molly says, Kristina shouldn’t have gone to Ava’s room, but only one person fell out the window… Two, Kristina and their baby. For that, she needs Ava to pay. He says, that’s what scares him. The vengeance she feels is him, and not what he wants to see in her. His mistakes were driven by his need to get what he was owed. He’s been learning to distinguish when it’s destructive. She says she thinks he’s confusing vengeance with justice, and he says, call it what she wants, but it’s poison. She asks what she should do. Forget what Ava did to her child and call it an accident? He says, it’s his job as a lawyer and a father to present the facts of the case and make her believe it was an accident. He has to prove it to her so she can move on and heal.

Josslyn says she knows Dex would protect her against anything, but don’t wreck his life. Britt died and she would have been next. She’s alive because of him. He says he promises he’ll do what it takes to keep her here, and kisses her.

Gio sees the mallet and says, Trina means business. Josslyn and Dex filled him in on Heather Webber. He doesn’t know how she’s keeping it together. She says she realized she hasn’t been. It seems easy to say, her mom is overreacting, and act mature, saying, let the court decide. It seemed impossible that Heather would ever go free. She killed five people and gets to walk away, probably with a big payoff. It feels so wrong. Gio says, people like them and what she’s feeling are why music and art exist, and she says, like them? He says, sometimes the only way he can express his feelings is through music. He thinks it’s the same for her.

Curtis says, they both know the answer. Sometimes life is not fair. Portia says, a young Black woman is not valued the same way a young white woman is. It makes her want to scream. He says him too, but right now he’s focused on protecting Trina. He could hire a security guard to stand outside the apartment. She says, it’s not enough, but he asks what options they have. He can get a bodyguard. Trina would hate that, but he’ll do it. She says, what Trina wants and what Trina needs are not necessarily the same thing. Heather’s grandson is here, and she’ll want to stay near him. Heather and Trina can’t be in the same city. They’ve got to send Trina away.

Molly says, if Ava isn’t held accountable… Ric says, her baby died for no reason. She says she can’t live with that. She barely talks to TJ about anything deeper than who’s making dinner. It’s the most empty house he’s ever been in because it was about to be so full. Now it’s not and they can’t see through to the other side. They’re stuck in this horrible in-between with no baby and a marriage hanging by a thread. In what world should there be no consequences? He says, it’s nobody’s fault, and she says she needs him to leave. Please go. He says he loves her, but she doesn’t say it back, and he leaves.

Lucas says he and TJ’s situations aren’t the same, but he does have experience with losing a child. He really hopes TJ and Molly do better. TJ asks if Lucas misses Brad, and Lucas says, sometimes, but he’d never go back. TJ might want to ask himself the same question. If he and Molly don’t make it, how much will he miss her? TJ says he doesn’t want to lose Molly, but he doesn’t know how much more they can weather.

Sonny calls Jason and says, there’s a business proposition he needs to talk to Jason about before he takes it.

Robert says, Holly was in Sonny’s office, and Diane says he doesn’t seem surprised. He says, it’s not the worst thing he’s heard about today.

Holly finds Anna in her hotel room and asks if the Police Commissioner is in the habit of breaking and entering. Anna says she thought it best to catch Holly off guard. It’s about Sidwell. The pilot that brought them back from Africa was killed and the plane was ransacked. Interpol has proof Sidwell is in Miami. Holly says, Jenz Sidwell is in the US? And Anna says, it’s a long way to come for hurt feelings. She’s guessing Holly took something from him. Stop lying for once. She’ll help Holly, but she needs the truth. Did she steal something from Sidwell? Holly says, no, and Anna says, really? Fine. Have it her way. Don’t say she didn’t try. Stay away from Robert. The last thing he needs is for Holly to make him a target. Anna leaves.

Josslyn and Dex get very busy.

Trina says she appreciates art, but she’s not an artist, and Gio says he was thinking about music. She loves to sing, and her grandpa said she had a gift. Trina tells him that her grandpa has to say that. Does he want her to write a ballad about how Heather freaks her out? He says, or about how all this feels. Fear, hate, confusion, disappointment, whatever is in her, let it out. She says she’ll think about it, but he says, don’t overthink. She yawns and thanks him for checking on her. He asks if she’s sure she’s okay by herself, and she says she’ll be fine. He asks if it’s okay if he crashes on her couch. It feels safer than a big creepy mansion. She says, sure. And she’s got her trusty mallet to protect them.

Curtis says he and Portia share Trina’s feelings and fears, but what is the chance she’ll give up her life in Port Charles? Portia says, they’ll make her see it’s for the best, and he says, her answer will be a refusal, and she won’t be wrong. She asks, what’s the solution? and he says, Trina’s not leaving. Heather is. She says, how? and he says he’ll handle that. Heather Webber is never going to be a problem ever again.

Tomorrow, Portia says, if Plan A fails, she may take Elizabeth up on that offer; Sam says, someone wants something, they always do; and Jack says, if Carly has to ask, she’s not as smart as he thought she was.

🧂 Adding 3 Teaspoons Of Salt…

Angie said, no one is innocent, but they’re like family, and no one is more important than family. She was going to make the group an offer they couldn’t refuse and invite them to her 25th anniversary party. The theme? Mob wives. I was all in for that.

Whitney apologized to Meredith and told her that she thought it was Lisa spreading the lies about her business. Meredith felt like Whitney was trying to get her to go against Lisa, but she was staying Switzerland.

Jared Osmond showed up at Angie’s anniversary bash, even though Britani had brought another date – the text calling them Jared and Not Jared. Way to mess with her head. Ugh, this guy. She needs to ditch him yesterday.

As usual, the best place for confrontation was somebody else’s party. At Angie’s anniversary bash, Whitney told Lisa that a source of hers claimed it was Lisa who wanted to sabotage her business. No surprise, Lisa got all bent out of shape and started screeching about lawyers and how she was going to sue whoever was spreading this vicious gossip. She demanded that Whitney name names and told Whitney that she was a liar loud enough for the whole room to hear, causing Whitney’s husband to get involved. Then he and Lisa’s husband looked like they were going to get into a fistfight, which was pretty funny, since neither of them looks like the type to get in a boxing ring. Unfortunately, we have to wait until next week to see how that panned out, since it was interrupted with, to be continued.

The best part, for me anyway, was when Heather suggested a group hug between Meredith, Mary, and herself, and Mary made a face like she smelled something bad. She didn’t receive Meredith’s idea of high-fives any more favorably. I love Mary.

🍸 A Real Charmer Lost…

Sadly, Michael has made his last martini. He was one of the highlights on the show, even though it was only video calls after his stroke. He will be greatly missed.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

Anatomy of Lies was extremely compelling. I was fascinated with this tale of a television writer turned con artist, especially since the only gain was attention. I’m convinced that I’m too lazy to scam people. I can’t imagine having to keep the story straight and, in this case, having to dim down, as Finchie also shaved her head and wore makeup to look sick. There were also those frequent trips to the bathroom to throw up. Yep. Way too much work. She might have continued to get away with it, if it weren’t for her piggybacking on other people’s tragedies and her co-workers realizing she was making like Zelig. This is a definite watch.

And this is always my first stop on Sunday. After church of course. <checks for lightning bolt> This is my must watch.

While Dogpool still tops my list, I’m obsessed with this dog. For the record, I like Graham Norton too.

Join me tomorrow for soap, what’s shading in the OC, and Halloween hijinks. Or at least pets in costumes. Until then, stay safe, stay amazed at the colors of autumn, and stay letting grief bring you closer to people, not the opposite.

October 22, 2024 – Marshall Gets a Big Sendoff, Circling the City Drain, Pavlova, Best Parade Ever & Spell

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

At The Savoy, Curtis tells the crowd about their family relying on each other’s love and tenacity. By the grace of God, they come through and they soar. There’s no finer example than his father, his dad, his pop. All Marshall’s life, he practiced his art in the shadows, and in the studio sessions, cruises, and dive bars, he was working on his craft while working on developing a reputation of respect from his fellow musicians. Today is a long overdue and very well-earned time for him to step into the spotlight and show the world what he does. Everyone toasts to Marshall.

Dante goes to see Sonny in his office and says, for the first time in a long time, everything is okay. They found a donor for Lulu. It’s Sam.

Elizabeth says she scored an extra pillow for Sam and asks if she can get her anything else. Sam says she’s okay, and thanks Elizabeth for taking good care of her. Elizabeth says she’s happy to, and leaves. Felicia comes in and says she’s here as Sam’s patient advocate and friend. How is she doing? Sam says, good, and Felicia says, things are moving fast because of Lulu’s condition. She wants to make sure Sam’s not feeling rushed and see if she has any questions or concerns. Sam tells her that Lucas is stopping by to go over everything, and Felicia tells her to try and get some rest. Maxie and Spinelli come in with balloons, and Maxie thanks Sam so much for doing this.

At (I think) the Bistro, Ava says, Ric rehearsed her for hours, grilling her on what to say and how to say it. He says he wants her to feel comfortable taking the stand. How does she feel? Ava says, good… confident… ready… What? Ric says, usually defendants testifying is risky. It makes it easy for the prosecution to score points cross examining. Ava asks if he’s saying she wasted her time rehearsing and he’s not letting her take the stand.

Holly goes to Anna’s office and Anna thanks her for coming. Holly says she’d have come even if Anna hadn’t reached out. Anna says, there are developments with Sidwell… and Holly says she and Robert have a daughter.

Spinelli says he’s speechless, and Sam says she’s glad to help Lulu. Maxie asks where Molly and Kristina are, and Sam says, somewhere. Felicia says, Sam has revelers a-plenty, even though she’s supposed to be getting some rest, and Maxie says, organ donation is a beautiful thing and so is Sam. Sam thanks her.

Josslyn tells Dex that they owe Trina for the invitation, since they never get a night out. There aren’t enough hours in the day. He says, they have a night out here now, and kisses her.

At one of the tables, Molly’s phone rings, and TJ asks if she’s not going to answer. She says, it’s just her mom, letting her know what time Sam’s surgery is tomorrow, and he asks if she wants to see Sam. She says she’s not sure Sam wants to see her. Besides, she wants to be here for him and his family.

Gio thanks Trina for inviting him and asks if she thinks her grandfather is going to play. Trina says she doesn’t know, but she has recordings if he wants to hear them. She wanted him to meet Marshall before he takes off.

Marshall says he hopes he can live up to Curtis’s words, but Curtis says, he already has. Portia says, they’re proud of him, and Curtis says he’s been checking the tour dates so they can get tickets. Stella asks if Marhsall would mind if she tagged along, and Marshall says he would love that.

Ric says, if Ava can keep her composure the way they practiced, he thinks she can convince the jury. She’s compelling when she wants to be. She asks if he finds her compelling, and he says, at times, very. He’s going to do best do his best to make sure she doesn’t go to prison, and Ava says, that’s his job. Ric says he’s good at it, and she asks if he thinks she’s guilty or does he believe Kristina’s fall was an accident.

Holly repeats that she and Robert have a daughter, but Anna says, that’s not possible. She never said anything all these years. Holly says she’s sure Anna understands not telling the father, and Anna asks if Robert knows. Holly says, this morning history repeated itself, and Anna is in no position to throw stones. Anna says, Robin was five, and Holly has been sitting on this since when? Holly says, since the WSB tried to kill Robert, and they all believed they’d succeeded. Anna asks if she knows where her daughter is, and Holly says, she’s in Port Charles. Sasha Corbin is their daughter. Anna says, this is low, even for Holly.

Sonny says, so Sam is the donor, and asks Dante, how are the kids? Dante says, Rocco is excited. Scout and Danny are happy. They’re scared for their mom, but there’s been so much bonding of the family, they feel closer together. Sonny says, it’s great the way Dante and Sam co-parent, and Dante says, the families blended better than he’d hoped. Sonny says, Dante has a great family, but Dante gives Sam all the credit. She did the heavy lifting.

Ava says she swears Kristina’s fall was a terrible accident, and Ric says he wouldn’t have taken the case if he’d thought otherwise. She asks how Molly is reacting, and he says, rough. Molly can’t see it yet, but he took the case for her sake. The only way for her to get past her anger and drive for revenge is if she accepts Kristina’s fall was an accident. Hopefully, then she can move on. She says, he’s a good father, and he says, few people would agree. She says, that doesn’t make it any less true. People say the same things about her, but she loves her daughter with her whole heart. His phone rings and he says he has to take it, and steps away.

Anna says she’s not sure anyone has hurt Robert as much as Holly. Now she’s kept this information for 20 plus years. Holly says, glass houses and all that, and Anna asks if Sasha knows. Holly says, she just found out, and Anna says, it’s shameful. Sasha has been through so much, and now she’s dating Cody, Mac’s son. Holly asks why Anna thinks she told Sasha, and Anna says, she gets no points for that. Holly says she doesn’t care what Anna thinks. She just lost her daughter and the man… Robert and Sasha will never speak to her again. Anna asks if Holly can think of a reason they should.

Gio says, Marshall has played with the greats, and Trina says, so will he. She introduces him to Marshall, and Dex tells Josslyn that it’s good to see her enjoying herself. She says, Alexis was exonerated and now her mom can concentrate less on Sonny, and Dex says, there have been a lot of coincidences lately.

Stella asks how Portia is doing, and Portia says, stressed. The fact that a judge is even entertaining Heather’s case makes her nervous. Stella says, they can’t do anything to change that, not tonight. Don’t let something out of their control make her miss good times with family and friends.

Ric comes back and tells Ava that he took care of the bill. He says he has to go, and jets.

Sam asks Maxie to run interference if her sisters show up, and Maxie says she’s on it. She knows about sister drama… and every other kind of drama. Spinelli tells Sam to focus on being the courageous heroine of her own story, when Lucas joins them. He wonders if he missed his invitation to the party, and Sam says she’s glad he’s here. They hug, and Felicia says, they need to let Sam get some rest. They say their goodbyes, and Sam tells Spinelli, don’t break into any databases without her. Lucas says, she’s the popular one. He stopped in to see if she had any questions or needed anything. Sam says she’s good on both, and Lucas says, Dr. Comstock will be by to discuss her surgery. He’s a great surgeon… Sam says she thought Lucas was doing her surgery, but he says he thought she knew he can’t do that.

Ric goes into the hospital and tells Elizabeth that he needs to speak with her. It’s important. She says, what has he done now?

Jordan picks up an order at Bobbie’s and sees Isaiah at a table, pouring over papers, an untouched burger in front of him. She says she sees he’s absorbed, and he asks if she’s coming from a run. She says she missed her morning one, and he says he admires her dedication. She says, back at him. Laura told her that he’s doing Lulu’s surgery. He says he was grabbing dinner before he went to the hospital, and she says she thinks he should do more than grab it. He might want to eat it too. He says, busted. But if she sits, he might have a better chance. She sits down and asks, what changed his mind? She thought he was done performing miracles. He says, Lucky asked for his help. His sister pulled him out of trouble more than once. Jordan says she hopes he has one more miracle left in him.

Marshall says, it’s good to see TJ and Molly. They made it through a terrible time. Molly says, each day is better, and he says, have faith that in the future they’ll have a family. Don’t be afraid to try again. TJ says, when the time is right, and Marhsall says, they’re going to make spectacular parents one day. Molly excuses herself.

Josslyn tells Dex that she doesn’t think about Cates’s murder or Sonny. She realized it’s not her job to make Sonny face justice or his conscience. She’s going to stay as far away from Sonny as possible. Dex says, wise move.

TJ finds Molly at the bar, looking at her phone. She says, her dad said he was going to stop by, but she hasn’t seen him. TJ says he just came to get a drink. (Or five.)

Ric says, Judge Orvis ruled in favor of Heather. He agreed that there was cobalt poisoning, and therefore, Heather was not in her right mind. He was hoping she’d be transferred to minimum security or something. Elizabeth says, that’s not what’s happening, and Ric says, Orvis vacated Heather’s sentence. She’s being released.

Anna says, Robert must be in shock, and Holly says, he definitely is, but Sasha’s reaction is the most troubling. She’s in complete denial. She’d told Sasha that her father was dead, and Sasha thinks this is another lie. Anna says, clearly, Sasha knows her, and Holly says she doesn’t know what to do. Anna says, leave. If she ever loved Robert, then she should leave town and maybe never come back. Her being here is destructive and she thinks it’s hurting Robert and their daughter. Holly says she’s Sasha’s mother, and Anna says, then put the welfare of her child first above her own. Holly says, Anna thinks she deserves this pain, but Anna says she doesn’t know. Holly asked her what she thought she should do and she’s telling her. The best way to help the situation is if she goes. Holly walks out.

Dante tells Sonny that he keeps worrying Lulu won’t make it through surgery. He’s scared. Sonny says, he’s probably preparing for the worst, but he should hope for the best, and Dante says, Lulu is a fighter. Sonny says, there’s still a chance because of Sam. Don’t count her out.

Lucas says, it’s against policy to perform surgery on family members, and Sam asks if Dr. Comstock is a better surgeon. Lucas says, he has stellar credentials, and Sam asks again, is he a better surgeon? Lucas says, no, and she says she shouldn’t be penalized just because she’s family. Lucas says, she’s not being penalized. That’s the way it’s done. She asks if he thinks he can perform surgery on her or not.

Isaiah says he can’t discuss Lulu’s surgery with Jordan, but the odds of rejection in a transplant are high already. Jordan says, her odds weren’t great and here she is. He says, she’s a recipient? and she says she received a kidney a few years ago from an unlikely donor. Her situation was dire, and her family was losing hope, but look at her now. He says he is, and she says, figuratively. She just ran six miles. He asks if that’s why she looks so good.

Ava thanks Nina for coming. Ric was called away and she’s not ready to call it a night. Nina asks if they were having dinner, but Ava says, a strategy session. She thanks Nina again for the referral and says she feels good. Ric is a tenacious lawyer and he’s in her corner. Nina says, unscrupulous is a better word. All he cares about is Ric. If her well-being aligns with his love of money, Ava is golden. Ric married her when she was in a fragile state of mind, tried to steal her money, and put her in the looney bin. Ava says, people can change. She sees how much he loves his daughter and he’s passionate about the law. He’s working hard to defend her. Nina asks if Ava is interested in Ric, but Ava says, no.

Elizabeth asks when Heather is being released, and Ric says, tomorrow. He never thought she’d be freed. He doesn’t believe she’s a threat to society… She says she’s sure the families Heather terrorized don’t feel that way. Why come to her? He says, the Ashfords are having a going away party for Marshall and Molly is there. She says, all the people he needs to tell in one room, but he says he doesn’t want to spoil the celebration. She asks if he doesn’t think they should know before they see it on the news, and he asks if she’ll go with him. She says, it’s all him. He needs to take responsibility for just doing his job. (I love when Elizabeth gets snippy.)

Portia tells Curtis, it was a wonderful speech, and Marshall says he was incredibly touched. The party is beautiful. Curtis says he’s glad to see Portia smiling again. She says, it’s a good party with a good turnout. It’s a good day.

Trina introduces Gio to Marshall, and Gio says, Wynton Marsalis is one of his favorites. Marshall says his too, and Gio says he’s sorry he won’t get to hear Marshall play. Trina says she’s going to miss him, and Marshall says he’ll miss her too. She should pursue her own music. She has the voice of an angel, and it would be something if she trained.

Stella tells Molly that it’s good to see her and TJ making an effort, and Molly says, they’re still healing. Stella says, it takes time, and Molly says, sometimes it’s so hard, she can barely breathe. Stella asks if she’s shared that with TJ, but Molly says, he has his own grief. She doesn’t want to put it on him. Stella says, after she says this, she’ll butt out… for a minute. Right now, she just sees them going through the motions. She understands that sometimes all you can do is go through to get through, but the words they don’t say are building a wall between them Tell TJ how she feels and listen to how he’s feeling. It’s the only way they’ll have a future together.

Curtis asks if Stella is sure that she wants to drive Marhsall to the airport, and she says, they’ll be fine. (Hmm… At this point, I trust nothing.)

Marshall tells Trina, be happy, and she says she loves him. He says he loves her more. She’ll be just fine. Stella says he doesn’t want to miss his plane, and he says, she loves bossing him. There are hugs and goodbyes, and Marshall says, y’all be kind to each other. Much love. He throws them a kiss, and leaves amid applause.

Nina says, Ric is not relationship material, and Ava says she can take care of herself. She’s not helpless and naïve. Nina says, she’s vulnerable and it’s worked against her in the past. Ava says, if Nina is referring to the late, lamented Cates, he was using her, and she was using him. Nina says she was talking about Nikolas.

Felicia tells Maxie and Spinelli to get some rest, and leaves. Spinelli asks, what’s on Maxie’s mind? and she says, it’s so strange that Sam ends up being the one to save Lulu. If Lulu wasn’t in a coma, she and Dante would be together. Spinelli says, they were divorced, and Lulu was engaged to Dustin, but Maxie says, Lulu confided in her after the explosion that she still loved Dante, but she didn’t get the chance to tell him. Maybe she should have told Dante. Maybe she still should. Spinelli asks, to what end? Wouldn’t Lulu want Dante and Sam to be happy? Maxie says she wouldn’t, and Spinelli says, just leave it alone and let fate decide. Maxie says, she and fate have never been besties.

Sonny says, letting go is hard, but sometimes moving on is harder, and Dante says he thought Lulu was it and it’s his fault he lost her. He never had the chance to tell her how he felt. Sonny says, thanks to Julian, and Dante says, Sam came out of nowhere. She snuck up on him and became everything. She put him and Rocco back together, and now she’s going to save Lulu’s life. He loves her more than he thought possible.

Sam asks if Lucas is worried his emotions will be involved, and Lucas says, it’s an important question and the answer is of course (🍷) he’ll be effected, but Lulu is the more serious risk. She asks how many times he’s done this surgery, and he says, dozens. She asks if she has to call her advocate, and he says he’s sure the lawyers have a waiver she could sign. She says, as long as he does the surgery. There’s no one she trusts more than her brother. He says, she wins again, and they hug.

Molly says she’s going to miss Marshall, and TJ says, there are lots of goodbyes these days. They hug, and Ric walks in. Molly asks where he’s been, and he says he needs to speak to Curtis and Portia.

Portia says, there’s something she’s been meaning to tell Curtis, when Ric joins them. He says he’d like to speak with them in private. It’s important. Curtis says, they can use his office, but Portia says she’s not going anywhere with Ric.

Isaiah says, a Deputy Mayor’s work is never done? and Jordan says she loves it on a good day. She hopes he has one tomorrow. Good luck. He says he doesn’t need luck, just skill, and she says, his ego is still intact. He says, you have to think you’ll be the best to be the best, and she says, that’s just what Lulu needs.

Dante kisses Sam and asks how she’s doing. She says, better. She got Lucas to agree to do the surgery. He says, as long as she’s comfortable. He wishes he could find the words to tell her how grateful he is. She says, just hold her, and he says, it would be his absolute pleasure.

Cricket sounds come from Anna’s computer, and she sees it says, ALERT! She says, Interpol? and sees a headline: Wanted Suspect At Large. Sidwell Spotted in Miami. There’s a photo of Sidwell at the airport, and Anna says, what are you coming for, Sidwell?

There’s a knock at Sonny’s door, and Frank says, his appointment is here. Sonny says, show her in, and tells Holly, we meet again. She says, good to see you, Mr. Corinthos, and he tells her to call him Sonny. She thanks him for meeting her, and he asks her to have a seat. What can he do for her? She says she hears he’s a man of many resources. Someone who can make things happen. He says, depends on the things, and she puts her tote bag on his desk. She says, in that case, she has a business proposition for him.

Ava says she and Nikolas are over, and Nina says, that doesn’t make being alone easier. Don’t be so quick to get involved with something new and shiny. Ava says she’ll take it under advisement, and Nina says she hopes Ava does. Underneath that charming exterior is a man who loves two things, himself and money. Expect anything more, and she’s courting disaster.

Elizabeth tells Terry, heads up. They’re going to need to support Portia. She’s about to get very bad news.

Portia says, this can only be about one thing – Heather Webber. Ric says, yes, and she says, what is it? Everyone! Listen to the news about Heather. Curtis tells Ric to say what he came to say, and Ric says he received a call from Judge Orvis. He ruled in Heather’s favor and vacated her conviction. Trina asks what that means, and he says, as of tomorrow, Heather is a free woman. There’s shock all around.

Tomorrow, Isaiah tells Lucas that if Lucky’s sister has a shot in hell of making it through this, she’s going to need him; Ric tells Molly, that’s why he can’t drop the case; Anna tells Holly, stop lying for once; and Sonny says someone must be in some kind of trouble.

🗽 No Sleeping In the City…

I wasn’t totally paying attention, but zoned in when Erinn had the women over for Shabat. In her interview, she wondered how anyone could be a Jew and a Scientologist. I assumed she was talking about Rebecca and rolled that over in my mind. I can actually see it meshing, although I’m sure it’s uncommon. It was story time, and Jenna told an interesting tale about dating a writer who was writing about sex clubs in NYC and going with him to one. She thought it was disgusting, and it sounded disgusting. Then they played Never Have I Ever with, no surprise, sex questions. I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m tired of the Housewives version of this game only involving one subject. Especially when it’s people whose freak number I do not want to know.

Brynn and Erin thought it would be amusing to put fake cockroaches in the beyond fabulous pavlova dessert, which made Sai literally run to the bathroom to throw up. I’m not sure what Brynn was wearing, but it looked like something stolen from a circus clown. Again, wrong people with the money. Ubah told the groups that whenever she was out of alignment, it was because of Brynn. Brynn told Ubah not to come off angry, and Ubah begged Brynn not to be condescending, which only stoked her anger. Brynn said she didn’t like and wouldn’t take anyone calling her names, and Ubah said if Brynn acted condescending again, she would call her a snake again. A snake? I’m pretty sure Brynn has been called worse. I know I have. In Brynn’s interview, she said she didn’t want Ubah to be a stereotype. And so we circled that drain again.

Next time, Sai’s birthday; and Erinn doesn’t want to be close to Jenna.

Here’s the full story outlined, if you crave more.

🩰 Not Just a Dancer Anymore…

That pavlova looked so good, I googled it.

October 21, 2024 – Lucky Makes Lulu’s Odds Better, One More Casualty, New Guy In Town, Disappearing Chef On Deck, Weekend Watch, Fatal Beauty, Back In the Day & Double

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Terry says, the transplant team found a potential complication, and Laura says, please tell her that they’re still planning on doing the surgery. Elizabeth and Lucky join them, and Laura tells them that there’s a been a complication. Terry suggests they go to her office since it’s more private.

Dante goes to the stables, and says he was going to come see Cody earlier, but then he got Cody’s message. Cody hands him a beer and asks if it’s about Lulu, but Dante says, it’s about Sam.

In the solarium, Sam says, she wanted to talk to Drew, but she’s expecting someone else. He asks, who? when Jason walks in.

Holly tells Robert that she has a sensitive matter to talk to him about. It could change things completely. She’s not sure how to put it in words, and he says, how about, Robert you have daughter? She asks who told him and he says, Sasha just left. She filled him in on the more colorful aspect of her history. They did a DNA test and it’s in the Bureau lab for verification. Does she want to tell him how all of this happened? (I suspect the usual way.)

In the nook, Maxie says, Sasha can tell her anything, and Sasha says, her mother told Maxie. Maxie says, Holly paid a visit to her and her mother, and Sasha says she can’t believe her mother dragged them into her ridiculous lie. Maxie says, what if she’s not lying?

Tracy sees Violet’s suitcase in the foyer and hears Violet in the living room with Brook and Chase. She goes in, and Brook says, they were having a snack before Violet and Chase head to the airport. Violet says, they were really waiting for Tracy. She doesn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

Laura asks, what complication? and Terry says, Lulu has a condition called portal vein thrombosis. It makes the chances of success exponentially more difficult.

Isaiah tells Elizabeth that he just came from PT and he’s getting stronger. Lucas joins them and says, just the two people he’s looking for.

Chase says, the flight’s been delayed, and Tracy suggests they have a final tea party. She asks Brook and Chase to go tell Yuri to make arrangements, and they leave. Tracy says, Violet’s dad is thrilled with his new job and their new house sounds lovely. Violet says she’ll be glad to see her daddy and the new house, but sad to leave this one and them. She’ll miss them so much. Tracy touches Violet’s face.

Holly says she didn’t set out to deceive Robert. She thought he’d been killed in a boat explosion. Robert says, the explosion Faison set to eliminate him and Anna, and Holly says, the only thing that got her out of bed in the morning was their baby. She couldn’t risk one of his enemies finding out, so she went into hiding. She gave birth and nobody in Port Charles knew. Robert says, she told people Sasha’s father was dead, and she says, as far as she knew, it was the truth. She wanted to give Sasha the best shot at life, so she left Sasha with her mother and made a living so she could send money back. He says, by running cons, and she says, that’s what she does best.

Sasha says, there’s no way her mother is telling the truth that Robert is her father, and Maxie asks if she’s sure. Sasha says, her mother wants her to cut ties with her relationships in Port Charles, so she’s free to join her on her cons with nothing to hold her back. Maxie asks, why would she lie to accomplish that? and Sasha says, one lie and her life falls apart. Holly is selfish, self-absorbed, and her feelings are all that matters. Maxie says, no child should feel that way about their mother, but she doesn’t understand. Why lie about something like this?

Cody says, Lulu has a donor and it’s Sam? and Dante says, Sam’s amazing. It’s one of the reasons why he loves her so much. She’s fearless and does anything for the people she cares about, but he feels guilty spending every waking hour at the hospital with Lulu. Sam has her own things going on with her family, and he hasn’t been there for her. He knows she understands about him being AWOL, but he’s asking the woman he loves to make a huge sacrifice for… Cody says, the other woman he loves.

Jason asks if Sam is okay, and she says she’s fine, but Lulu’s liver is failing. Jason says he was hoping Lucky could be her donor, and Sam says, they all were. Good news though. A donor has been found – it’s me.

Laura says she thought Lulu had been cleared, and Terry says, she was, but the pre-surgery test discovered the portal vein thrombosis. It’s a blood clot in the vein that delivers blood to the liver. The surgeon doing the transplant will have to remove the clot. Laura says, one more step, and Terry says, the odds of success have dropped drastically. Lucky says, just when they have hope, it’s yanked away, and Laura says, if they cancel the surgery, Lulu has zero chance of survival. If they do the surgery, she has a slim chance of survival. She only sees one option. Lucky agrees and says, they have to try. Terry says she wants to make sure she’s being clear. At this point, they believe the surgery will be in vain and in all likelihood, not save Lulu.

Holly says she spent years grieving Robert, then found out he was alive. Robert says, she thought he was dead when she learned she was pregnant. He can’t fault her for that, but what about Ethan? She says, Ribert was devastated when she told him that Ethan was Luke’s, and he says, why not tell him that they had a daughter then? She says she was so close so many times. She couldn’t hurt him more. She loved him too much. He says, she loved him, but didn’t have enough faith in him to trust him with the truth.

Tracy says she’ll miss Violet too, and Violet says, it’s weird to be happy and sad at the same time. Tracy says, a lot of life is like that. Think about the fun they’ll have the next time they see each other.

Lucas says, there’s something about the malfunction that he doesn’t understand, and Isaiah says, he noticed it was too quiet, and he realized the ventilator had powered down, but there was no initial alarm. Elizabeth says she can confirm that. When the second alarm kicked in, she ran to Lulu’s room, and Isaiah was manually resuscitating Lulu. Lucas says, if Isaiah hadn’t gone to see that it wasn’t working, by the time Elizabeth heard the second alarm, it might have been too late.

Lucas asks if Terry is saying they won’t perform the surgery, and Terry says, the donor will have to be informed of the new complication. If they decide they’d still like to do it, they’ll proceed and move forward as scheduled. She wants everyone to have the facts. She’s also talked to the surgeons and none of them has performed surgery under these circumstances, so that’s another factor that decreases their odds. Lucky says, what if he can make the odds better?

Violet says, this is the best tea party ever, and Brook suggests it because they’re using granny’s fancy china. She wasn’t even allowed to touch it when she was young. Tracy says, Brook didn’t appreciate what Violet does. She was talking to Violet’s grandfather Gregory before he passed away, and he said, what a special young lady she is, and they agreed she only deserved special things. That gives her an idea. She calls Yuri in, and says, Violet is leaving them to live with her father in Seattle. Yuri says he’s going to miss Violet very much, and Violet thanks him for helping her and playing hide and seek. He says, her ability to fit in tight spaces is impressive, and Violet says, so is his ability to find her. They hug, and he says he’s going to miss her too. Tracy says, when they’re done, she’d like Yuri to pack up the tea set and send it to Violet’s new address. It will get more use there and Tracy’s mother would want it to be enjoyed. Violet thanks her and says she loves it so much. There’s only one problem. If she has all the teacups, how can they have a tea party on a video call? Tracy has to keep one for herself. Tracy says, Violet is absolutely right, and she loves it.

Lucas says, a dual malfunction, and Elizabeth says, it’s been bothering her. Lucky approaches them and says he needs to talk to Isaiah. Isaiah says, of course (🍷), and they step away. Elizabeth tells Lucas that it looked like Lucky got bad news, and they look at Lulu’s chart on the computer. Elizabeth says, oh, God.

Dante tells Cody that he loves Lulu, but not in the way Cody means. She’s Rocco’s mother and he’ll always love her, but Sam is the woman he wants to be with. Cody asks if Dante is trying to convince him or himself. He doesn’t know Lulu, but he knows Dante and Rocco, so he has a good sense of who she was. She sounds incredible. Dante says, she’s amazing, but she’s his past. Sam is his here and now, his present and future. She’s the woman he’s in love with and one of the reasons is this amazing thing she’s doing for Lulu.

Sam says, the surgery is tomorrow, and she’ll be in the hospital for about a week. She’s hoping Scout and Danny can stay with Drew at the Quartermaines. Drew says, of course (🍷). Monica loves them and Tracy will be annoyed. Everybody wins. Sam says she knows Drew is dealing with the campaign, but she’s hoping he can spend as much time as possible with Scout. Drew says, happily, and Jason says, she has nothing to worry about. Sam tells Drew not to fall for those puppy dog eyes. They’re his kryptonite. And Jason, no bikes. Stay strong. Jason says he will, and Drew says him too. Jason says, they’ll do what she’s asking, and she thanks them.

In the stairwell, Lucky tells Isaiah that Dr. Randolph thinks Lulu’s odds are much smaller, and Isaiah agrees. Lucky says, her odds might improve if she has a surgeon who’s had experience with portal vein thrombosis. Does he know anyone? Isaiah says, a few, but there’s not enough time to reach out, have them come to Port Charles, and do the surgery. Lucky asks if Isaiah has ever done a transplant on someone with that condition.

Maxie says she’s heard stories about the adventures of Holly, Anna, and Luke, and Holly has a good side. Sasha says, all Maxie knows is what she knows from Holly, and Maxie says, Holly did save Anna, Jason, and Lucky from a dangerous situation in Africa, but Sasha says she’s sure there was something in it for her. Her mother never helps someone out of the goodness of her heart. Maxie wonders if she can’t be both a con artist and also sincere, but Sasha says, her mother lied to her for her entire life, saying her father was dead. She’s lying now. Maxie wonders why she would lie about something that can so easily be proven.

Holly says, the longer it went on, the thicker the lie became. She knew he’d be angry because of how angry he was at Anna hiding Robin from him. She was too cowardly to tell him. He asks what she was afraid of, and she says, that he’d hate her. He says, she had to know the day would come. Secrets don’t last forever. Holly says, it could have, were it not for Cody. She and Sasha had their ups and downs, mostly downs, but she loves their daughter too much to sit back and watch her fall in love with her cousin. Even she has her limits. Robert says, had she not found out Cody and Sasha were dating, she wouldn’t have told him? and she says, had her hand not been forced, she probably would have kept the secret forever. And the way he’s looking at her is precisely why.

Robert says he hasn’t approved of a lot of things Holly has done, but he’s never known her to be heartless. She says, for what it’s worth (🍷), she’s so sorry, and he says, when the DNA results come back and Sasha finds out the truth… Holly says, Sasha is going to hate her more for losing the man she loves. Robert will be the only person she has to lean on. So look after their daughter. She leaves.

Maxie tells Sasha, family stuff can be complicated, especially with parents. We all make mistakes. She has. Sasha says, so has she. Starting with how she conned Nina into thinking she was her daughter. Maxie says she doesn’t want to make Sasha feel worse, but she wishes she’d heard that Holly was Sasha’s mom from Sasha. She kept a huge secret. Sasha says she’s sorry. She didn’t deliberately hide it from Maxie or anyone. She spent most of her life ignoring the fact she has a mom, and when you spend so much time hiding part of yourself, it’s hard to open up. Maxie says she gets that, and Sasha says, Cody, Brando, and of course (🍷) Liam all showed her that she could be a good person in spite of Holly. Holly made sure she didn’t have a normal childhood or stable parents and she’s not going to let Holly take Cody away from her.

Doc finds Laura in the chapel, and she says, today has been awful. He says, she’s had to be strong for Lulu, Lucky, and everyone. Now it’s her turn to talk, cry, scream, throw things… Whatever she needs, he’s here. Laura says, there will not be any of that. She believes Lulu is fighting to get back, so she’s going to be strong too. He asks if Sam is going to go through with it, but she says she doesn’t know yet. She guesses she’ll understand if Sam doesn’t want to go through with it, but everything in her is praying she will.

Isaiah says, don’t go there, but Lucky says, just answer the question. Isaiah says, yes, and Lucky asks if the patient survived. Isaiah says, they did, and Lucky says, then what’s the problem? Isaiah says he never told Lucky how he ended up in Africa. It was another surgery, a different one. There were complications and he’d promised the family it would be okay, but it wasn’t. He’ll never forget the devastated looks as he broke the news. It was the worst day of his life. That’s why he went to Africa, to do basic medicine. To help people who could be helped and not make promises that can’t be kept. He’s sorry. He can’t save Lucky’s sister. Lucky says he’s not asking Isaiah to save her, but just to give it a try.

Chase says, they’re all packed along with a long list of instructions from Tracy. Violet asks if they can stop somewhere first. She wants to visit her grandpa’s bench one last time. Chase says he thinks that’s a great idea, and Violet tells Chase that Gregory said he was always with her. She’s lucky. Chase is the best uncle ever. They hug, and he says he loves her. She says she loves him too, and Brook says, Chase told her that Violet wants to leave Bella with them. Violet says, it’s for her new baby cousin. She’s so lucky because she’ll have Brook and Chase as her mom and dad. Brook says, she? and Violet says she wants them to have a girl, since they’re good at taking care of her. Brook says, she’s got to visit when the baby comes, since Violet taught her how to be a mom. Violet asks if she can tell Brook a secret. She’s going to miss the scarecrow Brook the most. They hug.

Drew says, it’s remarkable what Sam is doing for Lulu, and Sam says, her surgery is the easy part. Drew says, Lulu would have no chance without Sam, and Jason thanks her for doing it. Sam says she’s glad to be able to help and asks if Jason would mind spending some quality time with Danny at the Quartermaines. Jason says he absolutely will, and she says she has to say goodbye to the kids and find Dante. She thanks them and leaves.

Dante thanks Cody for keeping him honest. Sam is bringing the kids to the Quartermaine house, and he asks if Cody can take them on a trail ride and keep an eye on them. Cody says, of course (🍷). Everything will be okay. Dante says he knows, and leaves.

Elizabeth says she loves what she does, but wishes she didn’t understand how Lulu got worse, and Lucas says him too. The numbers don’t lie. Elizabeth says, when it’s somebody you love, you literally trick yourself into believing they’ll defy the odds. Lucas says, if Lulu survives, she’ll still be in a coma. The transplant will let her avoid liver failure, but her quality of life won’t change. He thinks they need to be honest with Laura and Lucky. Elizabeth says she knows he means well, but does he want to be the one to tell them to give up on Lulu?

Laura says, whatever Sam decides, she’ll be at Lulu’s side until the end, God forbid. So will Lucky. Doc says, Lulu is resilient, and Laura has done everything to give her a fighting chance. Getting Nikolas tested, flying across the world to find Lucky, and she never stopped looking for a donor. She says she’d do again tomorrow, and he says, she’s never given up hope that Lulu will survive. She says, don’t make her a hero. She’s just Lulu’s mom.

Lucky says he’s not asking Isaiah to make any promises. If he gives Lulu a fighting chance, he’ll take care of the rest. Isaiah says, it will take a miracle, and Lucky asks if Isaiah thinks it’s hopeless, just say it. If he’s just scared, please, they need him.

Brook tells Violet to call when she gets to the airport, on the plane before they take off, and when they land, so she knows Violet got there safely. Chase says, they’ll be fine. This is it. We’re all crying, and Brook tells Violet to be good for her Uncle Chase. She loves Violet all the way to the moon… Violet says, and back. They hug, and Tracy says, Violet is a very special young lady, and she’s blessed to have gotten to know her so well. They hug, and Violet says she knows this is Monica’s house because Alan gave it to her, but Tracy has made it feel like home. Tracy asks, who told her to say that? and Violet says, nobody. They hug, and Tracy says, Violet needs to get going. She loves her. Chase says, see them in a few days, and he and Violet go to the door. Violet looks back and Tracy waves. They leave, and Brook says, she’s going to miss Violet so much. Tracy says her too, and they hug. Outside, Chase says, ready? and Violet says, ready.

Holly looks at a diamond and puts it back in the bag. She makes a call and says, this is Holly Sutton. I believe we have some business to discuss, Mr. Corinthos.

Robert flashes back to when he and Holly were babies, and Holly says, they can get a divorce right away, but Robert says, the rules say, she has to stay in America for two years or until a child is born. Immigration is watching them.

Maxie says she’s got get home, and Sasha says she’s sorry for venting. Maxie says she’s Sasha’s friend and Sasha can come to her about anything. Sasha says, there’s no chance that Holly is telling the truth about Robert being her father.

Elizabeth says, Lucas can act like a doctor and speak in medical terms or be there for Lucky as someone who loves Lulu and is holding on and hoping with them. Lucas says he has no idea what to do, but she says, the answer is obvious. He asks, what is it? and she says, a Spencer never gives up. He says, stubborn comes to mind, and she says, it’s not a bad trait right about now. He says, she’s right about everything. He’s not going to stop fighting. It’s what Lulu would want and what she’d do for him if the situations were reversed.

Doc says he wishes he could bear the weight for Laura, and she says, he’s done so much. He’s her rock and keeps her going. He says he always will, and she says she doesn’t want to be away too long. Isaiah and Lucky come into the chapel, and Lucky says he found a surgeon. One that can hopefully save Lulu.

Tomorrow, Curtis says, it’s time for Marshall to show the world what he can do; Nina says, Ava is interested in Ric; and Jordan hopes Isaiah has one more miracle left in him.

💐 More Collateral Writing Damage…

What a shame. Her scenes with Tracy were perfection and they’re losing the best child actor they’ve ever had.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Daisy tells Gary that he’s not in her corner. If he was, she’d always be there for his department, but he’s not. He says he never intended to fight, but she says, that’s not reality. She tells him that looking after her girls is her main priority, and in her interview, she says, this is what Gary does. He’s remorseful and has guilt, then gives a half-assed apology. She forgives him and they move on. It’s a vicious cycle and they never move forward. That’s why they pay for therapy. To break cycles. Daisy tells everyone that last season, they took turns paying, and it worked out well. Everyone is cool with that except Cloyce who says he’s not buying everybody five drinks. Daisy says, they made $1400 today, and that’s how they do things. In Gary’s interview, he says, the chef is the highest paid, and Cloyce continues to whine. He wants to invest his drinking money, not make everyone happy. Daisy toasts to a great summer.

They go back to the boat, where Captain Glenn snoozes through a video about Greece, and in Danni’s interview, she says, the vibe deteriorating rapidly. Where is the party? In Cloyce’s interview, he says, the situation sucks. The best way for him to wind down is to cook, so he goes to the galley. In his interview, he says, it reminds him of school. He got straight As and had a few friends, but a kid he never met said he was an a-hole. From what I’ve seen, they might not have been wrong. He says he has no problem speaking up for himself, but at the same time he’s sensitive and feels like an outsider. Danni talks about Anthony, and Gary goes hunting for oysters in the galley. He and Cloyce open a bottle of wine and finish it. They go outside for a smoke, and Keith joins them. In his interview, Cloyce says, he didn’t sign up to make friends, but there are some cool people he’s getting to know better. Oysters and wine, baby.

5 hours to charter. Captain Glenn calls for the preference sheet meeting and says, charter two is lovely ladies. Amy is a realtor from Texas, coming with her two daughters and some close friends for her 60th birthday. Cloyce reads that guest Stephanie is gluten free, and Daisy reads that they want a boho island dinner with paella. Gary says, they want a floating lounge oasis, and Daisy says, an under the sea night with surf and turf, along with a professional DJ afterward. The captain says, they’re going near Es Vedra, and mermaids on the island go out to the boats. Gary is impressed that Captain Glenn knows mermaids, and the captain says they can hire some. In his interview, the captain says, there are weird legends that mermaids lured seamen to their peril. Aliens were involved. A producer asks if he believes in that, and he says, it’s just an island to him but he thinks it’s cool. Daisy calls the provider about the mermaids, while the stews clean the cabins. Danni says she was scared Diane was going be a bitch, and Diana says she’s glad none of them are bitches. Daisy asks who’s done dinner service, and both Danni and Diana have. She asks who’d like to and Diana says she would. In Danni’s interview, she says, going downstairs to do cabins is literal punishment and incredibly annoying. In Diana’s interview, she says, Danni is like, oh poor me. Get over it. Chill. In Daisy’s interview, she says, they’ll always have to do cabins, and tells the girls, it doesn’t matter. They’re going to get it equally.

1 hour to charter. Gary teaches Emma and Keith how to drive the tender. In his interview, he says he’s the only person who can drive the tender, and unfortunately, the only person who can crash it. He thinks it’s important for everyone that they learn. Emma says, it’s starting to piss her off that she can’t do it properly, and in her interview, she says, it pisses her off when she can’t learn things right away. She’s had a lot of jobs and she’s just hoping she wins the lottery. That would be ideal.

The guests are picked up in the tender and met with champagne and cool towels. Captain Glenn says, they’re excited to celebrate Amy’s 60th and welcomes them. He says, they have great things planned. Daisy shows them around, the guests change, and the sails go up. Things slide and several liquor bottles fly out of the cupboard and smash on the stairs.

Diana insists the cabinet was closed, while primary Amy almost slides off the boat in her chair, but Gary blocks her. In Daisy’s interview, she says her aim for the season was being super zen about sailing. Now here we are – it’s a complete sh*tshow. The guests can’t see. Amy wonders if there are whales here, and one of her daughters says, no. Just a bunch of alcoholics on the coast. In Cloyce’s interview, he says he wants to prove he’s all about being a team player and contribute to hopefully a big tip at the end. Danni flirts with Keith, and in Keith’s interview, he says, obviously, he’s into Danni, but she likes to fish and has no shame whatsoever. Shame hurts. Shame is real. Danni is nervous that the boho tablescape is going to be tacky, and Daisy says, the tackier the better. In Danni’s interview, she says she loves anything artsy. She took art in school and her dad was like, what the f*** are you going to do with art when you get older? She takes pride in her tables. She looks for bohemian sh*t on the boat.

Davide takes photos of the guests, and the tender begins to bang against the side of the boat. Gary says, the tender slipped away, and asks how Emma tied the line. Guest Lily says, they’re losing the boat, and Gary says, they don’t need it anymore. Ha-ha! In Gary’s interview, he says, they can’t leave the tender banging the boat. It makes noise, and worst of all, it looks like sh*t. He shows Emma how to tie the knot. Danni tells Daisy that she’s nervous about her name being on tacky. She’s passionate about this and Daisy told her to do something that she’d never do. She starts to cry, and in Daisy’s interview, she says she’s confused. What the f***? She tells Danni that she doesn’t have to stress.

Daisy says, it’s too early in the season to freak out, and Danni says, Daisy told her it was tacky and it’s frustrating when she’s passionate about it. Daisy tells Danni to pretend she didn’t say it. She meant over the top. In Daisy’s interview, she says she meant it was visually popping. She can tell Danni cares, plus she’s also hypersensitive. She’ll have to watch her words. She tells Danni not to overthink what she says. The guests come out for dinner, Amy and her daughters wearing flower crowns. They think the table is cute and beautiful. Diana asks Cloyce if everyone is getting the same, and he says, yes. She says, which is? and he says, with cheese? This reminds me of the time my husband stopped by the grocery store after work. He was still dressed for work and a woman asked, you work here? He thought she said, you were here? and he told her, yes, I was here, and they circled that drain for a while.

Lunch is served and it’s a glorious parade of seafood porn starring paella. Guest Teresa complains about her boobs getting bigger, which every female has said never. Cloyce says, so far, he’s doing pretty good, and Daisy tells Emma to have Cloyce plate the dessert. Emma says, it needs to be in the oven for 8 minutes, and tells Cloyce to put the pudding in the oven. Daisy checks on where the dessert is at, and there’s some confusion between her and Cloyce as to what the word clear means. In Cloyce’s interview, he says, deckhands should be removed from the scenario, and Daisy says she thinks they’re going to fight. In her interview, she asks where he thought the big plates came from. It also goes both ways. He has a radio. Ask her. Emma tells Daisy that she told him, and dessert is served. Amy says, it’s Southern comfort food and the best bread pudding she’s ever had. Daisy tells Captain Glenn what happened, and he tells her to let him know if there’s another incident. He doesn’t want to damage Cloyce’s confidence. Daisy talks to Gary and says, Cloyce shouldn’t throw her under the bus. She’s on his side. We flash back to Daisy telling Cloyce that a guest’s steak was too well done and Cloyce saying, that’s because it sat. In her interview, Daisy says, back the f*** off. F***ing own it. She doesn’t think she’ll be taking this sh*t. She tells Gary, everyone has to take responsibility for their own sh*t.

The guests go to bed, and Cloyce says, that’s it for him. In Danni’s interview, she says she keeps pursuing Keith. When they have a good moment, it’s exciting. He doesn’t spill all his secrets, so it’s hot. Gary says, it’s a great start to the season, and Cloyce says, there’s something about Daisy. In Gary’s interview, he says he never met anyone like Cloyce. He’s 22 and wears cufflinks. Daisy would walk all over him. He asks if Cloyce is playing hard to get, and Cloyce says he is hard to get. While breakfast begins, Gary tells Captain Glenn that he’s going to scout where to set up the Floatopia. He tells the deckhands to inflate everything inflatable and tie them all together. Davide tries to sit on one, but Emma says, it’s part of a game. He finds out he’s sitting on a cornhole target which somehow seems fitting.  Cloyce says he’d like to go to the Floatopia, and Daisy is like, what about lunch? He tells her that the salad is prepped and he’s putting chicken and salmon in the fridge for a light lunch. On deck, Amy thinks the red and yellow flag the Perceval flies is a pirate flag because of the colors. I don’t know about you, but I usually associate pirates with a black flag that has a skull and crossbones on it. They google it and find out it’s Spanish. In Gary’s interview, he says he doesn’t think Emma is taking this seriously enough, and fixes her inferior inflatables. Say that three times real fast.

Emma says she thought she was doing the right thing and doesn’t think Gary is being fair snapping at her. Cloyce says he’s stoked to offer assistance to the deck team and getting some Spanish sunshine is quite lovely. The guests are taken to whatever this floatie thing is🧐, and they lounge, snorkel, and use the wave runners. In Gary’s interview, he says, Cloyce is the chef, but he’s meant to be prepping. What is he making? French fries and chicken nuggets? In Diana’s interview, she says she’s trying to do her job, and Cloyce is trying to steal her job. His job is to be in the galley.

Wandering around the boat, Captain Glenn says he doesn’t see much prep in the galley. He looks for Cloyce, but can’t find him. Gary radios the boat for sun cream and the captain says he’ll meet Gary at the swim platform. He wonders where the chef is, and Gary says, he’s with them. Captain Glenn says, he’s got to come back in time to prep. Bring him back now. In the captain’s interview, he says, the chef is here for a purpose. He’s not a guest. He likes strong people around him who he can trust, and he’s starting to worry. What is he thinking? We see Cloyce wave running with the guests, and Captain Glenn tells Gary, get him back here now.

Next time, Captain Glenn says, the island is haunted by mermaids; Daisy says, alarm bells are going off in her head; and Diana thinks Danni is stupid. She could very well be right.

Brook tells Violet that she and Chase have to talk to her about something. They have some really great news. Violet asks if it’s about her dad. Can she visit him soon? Brook says, it is about her dad, and Chase says, he’s been released from the hospital. So she doesn’t have to visit him. Violet asks if her dad is going to visit her here, and Chase says, even better. She’s moving back in with her dad. Violet hugs Chase.

At Alexis’s house, Sam thanks Kristina and Molly for coming so early, and Kristina says, of course (🍷). Mom said it was important. Sam says, it is, and Molly says, she’s starting to freak them out. What’s this all about? Kristina says, she’s not sick or anything, is she? but Sam says, no. She’s fine. Better than fine. It turns out she’s going to be Lulu’s donor.

At Lulu’s bedside, Tracy says she knows this has been a wild ride, like the world’s most nauseating roller coaster. But she’s going to be all right. She hopes Lulu can hear her. Lulu is going to be just fine. She promises. Laura stands in the doorway.

Holly goes to Maxie’s place and Felicia answers the door. Felicia says, what a pleasant surprise, and Holly says she’s looking for Felicia’s husband. Is Mac here? Felicia says, he’s not. Is there anything she can help Holly with? Holly says, maybe. She nearly went to her grave keeping a terrible secret from her daughter. Maxie asks, what daughter?

Sasha goes to Robert’s office, and he asks what he can do for her. She says, first, she needs Robert to get one thing straight. He is not her father.

Felicia asks how Holly could not tell her that she had a daughter, and Holly says, it’s been very painful keeping this secret, especially from the people she loves. Felicia says, and supposedly trusts, and Maxie asks, where is this supposed daughter? Holly says, she’s here in Port Charles, and they both know her. It’s Sasha. Maxie says, Sasha Sasha? and Felicia says, she doesn’t mean their Sasha, but Holly says she does. Maxie says, Sasha Corbin is her daughter? and Holly says, yes. Maxie says, no. That’s not possible. She and Sasha are friends. They work together. They’re involved in each other’s romantic lives. Never, in the entire time she’s known her, has Sasha ever mentioned Holly’s name. Holly says, probably because Sasha would rather she weren’t her mother, and Felicia says, Holly came here looking for help. She has to be honest with them. Holly says, it’s a long story. Felicia says, long story or not, they deserve to know the truth.

Robert says, if Sasha doesn’t mind him asking… Sasha says her mother is Holly Sutton. Of course (🍷), Holly never told her the truth about who her father was. She’s a con artist. She literally tells lies for a living… which is probably something she shouldn’t tell the DA. Not that he seems surprised by that information. He says he and Holly were married, and she says, him and her mother? How long? He says, good question. There were times Holly thought he was dead and times he thought she was dead, and throughout the years, a lot of chaos. She says, that sums up her mother’s whole life. Never a dull moment. He asks why she didn’t say something the last two times Holly was in Port Charles, and she says she and her mother have nothing to do with each other, and she needs to keep it that way. That’s why she’s here. She needs to prove that her mother is lying about him. Then she can cut her mother out of her life for good. He says, not that he would know one way or the other, but why would she lie about this?

Laura tells Tracy, good morning, and Tracy says she just wanted a moment alone with Lulu. She jets, but Laura follows her. Laura says she was actually thinking about Tracy on the way over. She doesn’t think she ever thanked Tracy properly for looking after Ace. Tracy says she was happy to help, and Laura says she wants Tracy to know it really meant a lot to her. Tracy tells her, that being said, her grandson is a terror. They’re repainting the walls in the nursery. Laura looks horrified and asks what he did to the walls, and Tracy laughs. She says, what didn’t he do. Not to worry. She’s covering the cost. Laura says, that’s very generous of her, and Tracy says she knows it is. Laura says she just wants Tracy to know that she’s aware it’s not the first time Tracy has stepped up for her family. She’ll never forget how Tracy cared for Lulu when she couldn’t.

Violet asks why her dad didn’t come and get her, and Chase says, he’s busy making sure everything is just right so they can be together again. Violet says, being together will make everything just right, but Chase says, she knows her dad. He just wants everything to be perfect. Which is why – he looks at Brook and she nods – which is why he’s gone to Seattle. He got a job at a hospital there and he has a really nice house and it’s right next to a great school. Violet says, if she goes to a new school, Garth won’t be there, and Chase says, that’s right. Violet asks when they can leave, and he says, how soon can she pack? She says she needs to find her suitcase, and runs off. Brook tells Chase that she needs a minute, and leaves. Outside the door, she starts to cry.

Lucky says, Sam McCall? Did they run the second screening? Elizabeth says, immediately. She passed with flying colors. He says, so this is really happening, and she says, the surgery’s already been scheduled. Yes, this is really happening. He hugs her.

Kristina asks when this is happening, and Sam says, as soon as possible. Molly says, let them know if she needs anything, before the procedure or when she’s recuperating, and Kristina says, anything at all, they’re here. Sam says, Alexis is being quiet, and Alexis says she just loves Sam so much and she’s so proud of her. Sam says, stop making a bigger deal than what this is, but Alexis says, this is a very big deal. Kristina says, it is. She never saw this coming. She thought Sam was going to talk about what happened with Ric. Molly asks what she means, and Kristina says, they caught Ric having dinner with Ava Jerome. They were laughing and having cocktails and just acting like nothing ever happened. She found it pretty disrespectful to both of them, so she had to say something. Molly says, no. Kristina didn’t have to say anything. She never has to say anything. She just does. Kristina says, mom was there, and asks Alexis to back her up. Molly asks what Kristina said and how many people saw, and Alexis says she got there after everything. Molly says, everything? and Kristina says she knocked over Ric’s glass and it broke. That’s all. Molly says, let her guess. Kristina was yelling the whole time, in a crowded restaurant full of witnesses. Does she really not understand how she just helped Ava’s defense?

Elizabeth asks if Lucky is okay, and he says, yeah. She says, he can hug her, especially with news this good, and he says, it’s not that. It’s just the past few days. All he could think about are how the choices he’s made in his life are somehow going to cost his sister hers. She says, they all have to make choices. There’s no way he could predict this was going to happen. He says he knows. It’s just that he still feels like he let his little sister down. She says, if there’s one thing she’s learned from working at the hospital, it’s that there are going to be days of sadness and grief and despair, and those days are no one’s fault. It’s part of life. He says, sometimes life can be pretty damn terrible, huh? and she says, and it can be really great. Today’s a great day. He should appreciate it. He says, she’s right… as always, and she says she doesn’t know about that, but he’s scoring really big points for saying it. He says he appreciates her coming by with this update, and she says, it’s her pleasure. Actually, he’s not the real reason she’s here. He says, then why? and they hear Ace on the monitor. She picks it up and says, today, she’s a nurse and a babysitter. He says, seems like old times, and she says, things have changed a little. She’s twenty bucks an hour now. He says, highway robbery, and she says she’s still going to raid the fridge. She goes to the kitchen.

Holly says she realized when she was pregnant that she couldn’t give up another child. Not after the pain of abandoning Ethan. Maxie asks if she’s talking about her pain or his pain, and Felicia says, Maxie, please. She tells Holly, continue, and Holly says she also realized she was in no position to raise a child. Felicia says, what did she do? and Holly tells her that her mother said she would look after the baby. So she settled Sasha with her grandmother in Chappaqua and visited as often as she could. Maxie says, in between scams, and Holly says she wasn’t winning any mother of the year awards. She wasn’t the one Sasha ran to when she skinned her knee or performed in a school play. She was pretty much a mother in name only. It was her grandmother who raised her, but she did teach Sasha everything she knew. Felicia says, about what? and Holly says, about what she does and how she does it. And Sasha wasn’t just a good pupil, she was a natural.

Sasha says, the reason her mother told her this, according to her, is that she’s in a relationship with Cody Bell, and Robert says, who happens to be his nephew. He can see how that would be a concern. She says, only if it’s true. She doesn’t know why her mother is trying to get between her and Cody, but she’s not going to let her get away with it. Which is why she’s hoping he’ll agree to a paternity test. He says, of course (🍷), and she thanks him. He says he can drop by GH at the end of the day and do it then, and she says, about GH. She’s sure he knows her mother can be more than a little resourceful. He says, she’s concerned that Holly will get wind of this and tamper with the end result to come out the way she wants it to. She says, pretty much, and he says, then they’ll use the WSB lab. She says, he can do that? and he says, watch me. He picks up a desk phone and says, Jack? I need a favor. (I guess it must be a hotline to Jack’s desk.)

As Chase helps her pack, Violet asks, how far away is Seattle? and Chase says, by plane, it’s about six hours. She asks if he and Aunt Brook are moving to Seattle too, but he says, no. They can’t. Their whole lives are here, but they’ll definitely come visit. She says she’s going to miss them a lot, and Chase says he’s going to miss her too. She says, but he’ll be all right, and he says, why is that? She says, because he and Brook Lynn will have a baby of their own. He laughs and says, we’ll see about that. They continue to pack, and Violet tells him that he can give Bella the pig and Otto the owl to the baby. He says, but she loves Bella and Otto. Is she sure? She says she’s too old for stuffed animals (I feel like I just got shamed by a 9-year-old about my own collection of them), and he says, how about this? Bella will stay here in Port Charles, and she can take Otto to Seattle. That way, no matter where she is, it will always feel like home.

Ned says he’s glad Finn’s doing well, and Lois says, yeah, but why Seattle? Can you even get a decent bagel in Seattle? He tells her, say that again, and she says, Seattle. He says, bagel, and she says, bagel? He tells her, say the whole thing, the whole sentence, and she says, can you even get a decent bagel in Seattle? He says, there it is, and she says, there what is? He says, her beautiful accent is back, and she says, he really thinks it’s beautiful? He says, strangely, he does, and she thanks him. She says, so does she, and he says, no more of Miss Finch’s proper diction? She says she only learned that for work. She never planned on using it for the rest of her life. He says, she talked like that for weeks, and she says, like playing the guitar or skiing or learning an accent, you got to work at it until it becomes second nature, until you’re comfortable with it. She’s comfortable with it, so she doesn’t have to practice anymore. She drops her accent and says she plans on using Miss Finch’s pronunciation when she’s on Home & Heart. Back to Brooklynese, she says, but she’s going to use her own pronunciation for the rest of the time. He says, she’s really amazing, and she says, thanks for noticing. But back to the original conversation, okay? She doesn’t know why Finn isn’t mending fences at GH and staying where he belongs. Ned says he didn’t know she was so attached to Finn, and she says she’s not. It’s just… you know. He says he’s going to miss Violet too, and she says, yeah. Brook comes in and says, sorry. She didn’t know anyone was in here, but Lois says, Brook’s not going anywhere until she tells her what’s wrong. With tears in her voice, Brook says, she’s what’s wrong, and Lois asks if this has got anything to do with Violet leaving so suddenly. Brook says she knows Violet belongs with her father. It’s wonderful. They’ll get a fresh start together. But she can’t stop thinking about how much she’s going to miss her. She’s started thinking about Violet as a daughter. Just like she did with Bailey Lou. She had to give Bailey Lou up. How is she supposed to do that again?

Isaiah gets off the hospital elevator, and Lucas introduces himself. He says he’s Lucky Spencer’s cousin, and Isaiah says, nice to meet him. Lucas asks how his recovery is going, and Isaiah says, why? What has he heard? Lucas says, about his progress? Nothing. About him second guessing every specialist who tries to treat him? He’s heard a little about that. Isaiah says he’s sure his physical therapist would like to beat him to death with his knee brace, and Lucas says, admitting you’re wrong is the first step to making things right. Isaiah tells him that he never said he was wrong, and Lucas says he noticed that. Anyway, the whole hospital is talking about how he saved Lucas’s cousin Lulu. Nice work. Isaiah says he’s just glad he was there, and Lucas says him too. Because they both know that ventilator shouldn’t have failed.

Lucky says, so his mom asked Elizabeth to babysit Ace, and Elizabeth says, yeah. She wanted to get to the hospital before Lulu had her procedure and the nanny isn’t coming until later, so she said she’d watch this little guy. He says, he’s not so little, and she says, no. She can remember Aiden this size like it was yesterday. Lucky says, what was he like? and she asks, what does he want to know? He was a lot of things. He says, everything, and she says, he loved music. He was always bouncing to the beat on the radio and banging on his little piano. He loved to sing. He says, is that right? and she says, they both know she can’t carry a tune, so she knows he got that musical gene from him.

Laura says, when she was in the hospital for all that time, it was Tracy who stepped up and gave Lulu the care and guidance she couldn’t give her. She’ll always be grateful to Tracy. Tracy says, having stepmotherhood thrust upon her was the last thing she wanted, especially considering the stepdaughter involved was… How can she put this delicately? Laura says, why start now? and Tracy says, so much like her father. Laura says, she was always very headstrong, and Tracy says, that’s a euphemism. Did Laura know that Lulu called her stepmonster? Laura says, oh no. That’s so rude. She’s sorry. Tracy says, she was selfish, inconsiderate, reckless… Laura says, like Tracy told her, Lulu was a lot like her father, and Tracy says, and just as glorious. Caring for Laura’s daughter was a privilege, nothing less. She wipes the tears from Laura’s cheeks, and Laura takes her hands.

Holly says, when Sasha turned twelve, she started to take Sasha on her travels. Trips to Europe, beautiful clothes… It was a one-on-one education of the finer things in life. She tried to shower Sasha with all the love and affection she had, which turned out to be quite a bit. No one was more surprised than her. Maxie says, but Sasha wanted to keep her at arm’s length? and Holly says, Sasha never really wanted anything to do with her. So that’s that. Felicia says, except for, so far she hasn’t mentioned a word about who Sasha’s father is. Holly says, when Sasha was born, she had every reason to believe her father was dead. And then, years later, when she found out he wasn’t, it was too late to show up at his door with the happy news. Felicia says, does dad have a name? and Holly says, something tells her that Felicia already knows. Felicia says she has a pretty good idea, but she hopes for Sasha’s sake that she’s wrong.

Kristina says, for once, her dad isn’t the bad guy here. Molly’s is. Molly says, Kristina is the one who caused a scene in public, not him, and Kristina says, this is all about Molly blaming her for Adela’s death. Molly says, her name is Irene, and Sam says, come on. Knock it off. Alexis tells them to listen to their sister. Stop it. Molly says, her dad is going to use everything Kristina did in that restaurant to prove that she’s angry and violent. She might as well have signed an affidavit saying Ava’s not at fault. Sam says, that’s a little harsh, and Molly says, so now Sam is going to side with Kristina? Sam says, no. She loves them both. She’s not siding with either one of them. Kristina says, what? So she’s going to turn her back on both of them instead of just siding with one of them? (Ha-ha! Sam can’t win.)

As they walk, Isaiah tells Lucas that he saw Lulu’s ventilator had been powered down. So he grabbed the Ambu bag and started ventilating her. Nurse Baldwin showed up and started CPR, and they kept her stabilized until the ventilator was able to be replaced. Lucas says, the ventilator just powered down like somebody turned it off? and Isiah says, the simplest explanation is that somebody touched something that they shouldn’t have. Lucas says, what’s the complicated version? and Isaiah asks what Lucas is thinking. Lucas says, that maybe someone did this on purpose, and Isaiah says, can’t rule that out. Which begs the question, who would tamper with a ventilator? And who would know how? Lucas tells him that he’d say, go to the usual suspects, but this town is infested with the usual suspects. Isaiah says he got that impression from Lucky. The way he sees it, if someone did this deliberately, they should be talking to the police.

Gio brings in a large suitcase on wheels, and Chase asks what he’s got there. Gio says he heard about Violet’s adventure and thought she might need this, and she says, it’s so big. He says, it has to be if she’s going to take everything she owns to Seattle. She says, there’s so much, and he says, they’ll figure it out together. Chase says, it looks like they have everything under control, so he’s going to leave them to it. He leaves, and Gio says, so Seattle. That’s so cool. Violet says she’s going to watch ferry boats from her window, and he says, sweet. What else is she looking forward to? She says, seeing her dad, and he says, of course (🍷). What else? She says she’s a little nervous to start a new school, but she’s hoping the kids there will be nice. He says, it makes total sense to be nervous. Lucky for her, he changed schools a bunch of times and picked up a few tricks along the way. She says, tell her everything.

Ned tells Brook, caring for a child bonds you to them. Isn’t that right, Lois? Lois says, yes, it does, and Brook says she really has to go fix her makeup because Violet is going to be down here any minute. She can’t let Violet see her this way. Ned asks if Chase knows how she feels, and she says, God no. He asks, why not? and she says, because as hard as it is for her to say goodbye to Violet, it’s going to be even harder for Chase. She needs to hold it together. At least until she’s gone. Chase says, no, she doesn’t, and walks into the room. She says, he wasn’t supposed to hear that, and he says, it’s a good thing she’s terrible at keeping secrets. And just so she knows, he feels the same way. He hugs her.

Maxie says, Robert. Mac’s brother. Cody, Sasha’s boyfriend’s father. That Robert. Holly says, yes. Robert is Sasha’s father and Cody’s uncle, which makes Sasha and Cody first cousins. Maxie says, no, and Felicia says she thinks Holly would know who her child’s father is. Maxie says she has science on her side, and Felicia did that DNA test between Mac and Cody, and then Sasha swapped Cody’s sample out for hers, so… Holly says she thought of that, and Felicia says, not helpful. Not then, not now. Holly says, sorry, and Felicia says she sees what Maxie is getting at, but the test she had run was only to determine paternity between two subjects. It was a yes or no answer. No percentages. Maxie says, so science is not on her side, and Holly says, Robert is Sasha’s father, and Sasha and Cody can’t be together. Those are the facts, but Sasha refuses to believe her. Maxie says she can’t imagine why, and Holly says, since her daughter won’t listen to her, she was hoping that Mac could break the news to his son, gently. Felicia says she can’t believe how far off course Holly is. Of course (🍷) she has to talk to somebody, but it’s not Mac. Holly says, who? and Felicia says, Robert.

Robert tells Sasha, that’s that. Hair samples are on their way to the Bureau lab. She tells him, thanks again for being so understanding and patient. She knows he must have whiplash right now. He says, not for the first time, especially not with Holly, and she says, it’s hard enough to deal with her when she’s your wife, but when she’s your mother, rolling with the insanity Holly threw at her was not a great way to grow up. Robert tells her that he’ll say this. Holly’s methods may be questionable, but her heart’s in the right place… usually. Sasha tells him, that’s what she always says to her marks. She’s sorry. Robert says, she doesn’t hear him disagreeing with her, does she? and she says, of all the men her mother could claim were her father, she’s glad Holly chose him. He thanks her and says, the feeling’s mutual. She says, don’t get too attached. The results aren’t in yet. She leaves, and Robert looks troubled.

Elizabeth says she’s off to work, and Lucky says he’s glad they had a chance to catch up. She says her too, and he says, just out of curiosity, did Aiden ever take music lessons? and she says, once he became obsessed with baking, music kind of took a backseat. He says, at least he found something he loves and he’s good at, and she says she still doesn’t know where that talent came from. Lucky should talk to him about music. She thinks he’d like it. Lucky says, yeah. He thinks he’ll do that. She says she’s off to work, and he says he’s right behind her. He just has to call a Ride Share. She says, he still doesn’t have a car? and he says he’s working on it. She asks if he’d like her to give him a ride, and he asks if she’s sure. She says, come on. He can serenade her like old times. He says, speaking of singing, does she remember when they sang Jailhouse Rock at the Nurses Ball? She says, don’t remind her, and he says, they were good. He was good. She asks if he wants that ride or not, and they leave.

Holly says, Felicia’s right. She absolutely has to talk to Robert. Felicia says she’ll be following up with Robert in an hour. Holly says, you win, and Maxie says she doesn’t think there are any winners here. Holly leaves, and Maxie tells Felicia, thank you. Felicia says, for what? and Maxie says, being here. She knows there was a time Felicia wasn’t, and she gave her a pretty hard time about it. Felicia says she deserved it, and Maxie says, maybe then, but definitely not now. And she’s really lucky to have Felicia. Felicia says she’s the lucky one, and Maxie asks if she thinks Holly and Sasha are going to find their way back to each other. Felicia says she honestly doesn’t know. She hopes so.

Brook wants to say goodbye to Violet without crying, but Chase says he’s sure they’re all going to be a mess. Isn’t that right, Lois? Lois says, yeah. It’s gonna be messy. Brook says, that’s the problem. She doesn’t want to upset Violet. Chase says, she won’t. He promises. She was just talking about planning a trip to visit her future cousin. Brook says, that’s a little premature, but she does like Violet’s optimism. She knows Violet being with her dad is what’s best for them. Did he see the look on Viollet’s face when he told her that she was going to be with her dad again? He says, she can’t wait to see him, and Brook says, maybe they should help her pack. He says, Gio’s got it under control, and she says, good. She doesn’t know if she can bear it. Lois asks them to excuse her for a minute, and leaves. Chase says, look at the bright side. Brook’s not alone. They’re all going to have a hard time saying goodbye. Ned says, that’s right, because Violet’s family, and Brook says, oh no. No, no, no, no, no, no. Chase asks, what’s wrong? and Brook says, Violet is leaving, and they forgot to tell Tracy.

Tracy says, the only person happier than her when Laura came home was Lulu, and Laura says she slept for such a long time. It’s terrible to be stuck in your head like that. Tracy says she’s sure Lulu knows that better than anybody right now. Laura needs to know that the entire time she was gone, Lulu never gave up hope. Lulu knew she would come back to her. Laura says, and Lulu will come back to her. Terry comes out and tells Laura that they need to talk about Lulu’s surgery, and Laura follows her out.

Sam says she’s not turning her back on either one of them, and Molly and Kristina start arguing. Sam asks them to stop it. Please. It’s the last thing she needs today. Alexis says, she’s right. Sam is always there for both of them, and today, she needs their support. Do they think they could manage that? Molly says, fine. She’ll make nice. Because that’s what she’s always expected to do. Kristina says, this is her being nice? and Sam says she’s had enough of this. She has to go drop her kids off at the Quartermaines before she goes to the hospital. Bye. She leaves, and Alexis asks if they’re proud of themselves.

Gio and Violet sit on the suitcase, and Violet says, there’s too much stuff. It’s not gonna fit. He tells her, what do we say? Never give up… They both say, never surrender. He zips the suitcase and says, see? He told her they’d get in everything she needed. She says, not everything, and he says, goodbyes are hard, but she’s going to be with her dad. That’s the most important thing. Lois watches from the doorway.

On the phone, Brook says, hi, granny. When is she coming home? Tracy says she has no idea. Whatever it is, can it wait? Brook says, it’s Violet, and Tracy asks if something is wrong. Brook says, not at all. In fact, everything is great. Violet is going home.

Sasha straightens up the nook, when Maxie walks in. Sasha asks, what brings her by? and Maxie says, they’re friends and Sasha knows she can tell her anything, right? Sasha says, her mother told Maxie.

Holly goes to Robert’s office, and he says, come in. How is the day treating her thus far? She says she’s glad he’s here. There’s a deeply personal matter that she needs to discuss with him. He says, sounds serious, and she says, it is. It could change everything. He says, don’t keep him in suspense, and she wonders how to put it into words. He says, how about, Robert, you have a daughter?

Alexis tells Kristina and Molly, they say there’s no wrong way to grieve, but she’ll be damned if the two of them haven’t found one. Kristina says, wait. What? Alexis says, they heard her. Now she needs the two of them to get past their pain and see what their endless sniping is doing to this family. Molly says, that isn’t fair, and Kristina says she’s trying. Alexis says, she is not trying. Neither one of them is making an effort. (Preach!) They should be helping each other through this, healing together. But they’re so hellbent in trying to take a piece out of each other, they’re choosing to burn this family to the ground.

Terry says, the transplant team has come across a potential complication with Lulu’s surgery, and Laura asks, what kind of a complication? Please tell her that they’re still planning on doing the transplant. Lucky and Elizabeth join them.

On Monday, Lucky says he can make those odds better; Robert asks why Holly didn’t tell him then that they had a daughter; Cody asks if Dante is trying to convince him or himself; and Violet tells Tracy that she didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

October 17, 2024 – Holly Reveals Sasha’s Father, Off With Their Oranges, Extra Salt, Furballween & London

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Sasha asks what her mother is doing here, but Holly says she has no excuse. Sasha says she’s always had one before and usually roped her into a scam. Who’s the mark this time? Holly says, there’s no mark. Her motive is Sasha’s well-being. Sasha is headed for disaster, and she refuses to let that happen.

Tracy goes to the stables and tells Cody that she found Sasha hitting up Michael for money. When she confronted Sasha, she said it was for him and that he’d been considering asking her. Is that true? Is he in trouble? He says he didn’t think so until she showed up.

Ava meets Ric at the PC Grill, and he says, if all goes as planned, she’ll be as free and available for dinner dates as his ex. She asks, which one?

Alexis goes to Jordan’s office, and Jordan says she was happy to hear about Alexis’s release, but she’s surprised to see her. She thought Alexis would be with her family. Alexis says, that’s why she’s here. Would it be okay for them to talk about Molly and TJ?

TJ goes into the apartment with some dry cleaning and says, Molly’s dress is ready in time for the party. She says, party? and he says, Marshall’s send-off at The Savoy. Did she forget? She says she wouldn’t miss it. She just got caught up in a case. A colleague is handling it, but she wanted to look it over. He asks, what case? and she says, Ava Jerome’s.

Sam and Dante come home, and Dante says, they can see the finish line. Rocco’s mom is going to live because of her. She’s a hero. Sam says she’s just a person doing a good thing, but he says, it’s everything, and they kiss.

Cody promises Tracy that he’s not in trouble, and she says, so he doesn’t need the money? He says, need is a stretch. Like to have it? Sure, but there’s no point in discussing it. She says, Sasha thought differently, but Cody says he didn’t ask her to do it. Tracy says, out with it, and he says, Serenity is on the market. She says, so it’s an emotional purchase. She’s not sure that’s wise. He says he always had a fantasy of buying a place, fixing it up, and turning it into something. She says, what’s the asking price? and he says, 6 million. He thought he could put down a 10% deposit. She says, the interest payments will kill him, and he says, that’s why he dropped it. She asks why he didn’t come to her, and he says he thought about it, but he gets the impression a lot of people draw from the bank of Tracy, and he didn’t want to be one of them.

Sasha says, Holly is here to cause disaster, but Holly says she’s here to rescue Sasha. Sasha says, this is her place of work and she’s on thin ice as it is. She doesn’t need trouble. Holly says she’s attempting to avoid trouble. What’s the angle? Sasha says, there’s no angle. She’s employed by the Quartermaines as their cook. Holly asks if she legitimately does things in the kitchen, and Sasha says, if by that, Holly means prepare, cook, and serve meals, yes. Holly asks if she does dishes, and Sasha says she doesn’t know why Holly is here and doesn’t want any part of it. Holly left her holding the bag in Llanview with David Vickers.😯She’s lucky she got out. Holly says, Ethan was in trouble and Sasha landed on her feet. Sasha says, that’s because Nona took her in. She’d still be waiting tables in Chappaqua if she hadn’t been offered more lucrative employment. Holly asks if she means the job for Valentin Cassadine pretending to be Nina Reeves’s daughter. She’s sorry she hasn’t been the mother Sasha deserves. Sasha says, she’s not the mother anyone deserves. Is she here to ask forgiveness? Sasha forgives her. Now go. Holly says she can’t undo her past failings, but she can stop Sasha from making a terrible mistake and getting more involved with Cody Bell.

Sam calls the kids to come downstairs, and Dante says he has news about Rocco’s mom. For the first time in a long time, everything is more than okay. They found a donor. Rocco asks if they’re definitely compatible, and Dante says, it’s a go. And the donor’s been with them the entire time in this apartment. Rocco hugs Sam.

Alexis says, Molly and TJ seem to be struggling, and Jordan says, they both know the odds of couples surviving the death of a child. Alexis says she believes they love each other very much, but the strain of losing a child is overwhelming. Jordan says, they’re white knuckling it, and Alexis says she’s worried the trial is going to push them over the edge, especially with Ric taking the case. He’s an excellent attorney and if he gets Ava off, it will be even harder on Molly and TJ. Her question is, does Jordan think they should step in and try to help? Jordan says, they can’t fix it. If Molly and TJ are going to survive, they’ll have to do it on their own.

Ric says, Ava has a strong case, and Ava says, but not a slam dunk. He says, Robert wouldn’t be prosecuting if he didn’t think he could make it stick. He has a strategy and hopes it goes as smooth as Heather’s case. It’s being ruled on tomorrow. He needs more facts in Ava’s case, especially with all the people aligned against her. Ava says, here comes one of her biggest fans now, and Kristina walks in.

Jordan says she told TJ and Molly that she was here for them, and she assumes Alexis has done the same. Alexis says, of course (🍷), and Jordan says, TJ and Molly will notify them if they’re needed. Alexis says she was hoping for a way to take the pressure off of them. What if Ava walks? Jordan says she would hate that, but the end result is the same for Molly and TJ. Alexis says, they’re left without Irene, and Jordan says, they only have to decide if they’re facing it together or apart. Alexis leaves.

TJ asks if Molly is sure her looking over the case is a good idea. Or will it cause an ethical issue or get the case thrown out? Molly says she’s just reviewing it. If anyone is going to tank the case, it’s Kristina. Her acts of self-destruction always win out.

Ava says, incoming, and Kristina comes over to the table. She asks if Ava is enjoying her night on the town since it’s one of her last, and Ric says he trusts she’s well. Kristina says she’d be better if she was home with her daughter, and he asks if she doesn’t mean Molly’s daughter. Wasn’t that the agreement? She says, he has a lot of knowledge for an absent father. She doesn’t know how Molly can look at him since he’s representing Ava. She’s the reason Adela died. He says, what happened to Irene was tragic, not criminal. It’s not Ava’s fault. It’s hers.

Cody says he’s heard things, and Tracy says, such as? He says, Ned’s dad was a fraud and swindled her. Dylan’s dad used her. There were a couple of mafioso guys, and he heard about Mitch Williams… She says, enough, and he says, it’s a pattern he doesn’t want to be part of. She says, all Finn wants is a good game of backgammon and Gregory never asked her for a dime. Not every person saw her as a means to an end. He says he’s sorry. He didn’t mean to suggest all the men in her life are the same, and she says, face it. Most are. They laugh, and she says, the one she fell the hardest for was the biggest offender.

Sasha asks Holly why she would break up with Cody. He saved her life. He found her when she was at her lowest, got her on her feet, and kept her going. Holly says she’s grateful, but Sasha has to put an end to it, and Sasha says, it’s none of Holly’s business, but she and Cody have gotten close. In fact, she’s fallen for him. Holly tells her not to say that, but Sasha says, it’s true. She’s not dumping him to help Holly make a buck. Holly says, it’s not about money. It’s for Sasha’s own good. Sasha asks, how? and Holly says, Cody is her cousin. (Didn’t see that one coming either. Her father is… Robert?)

Kristina says, Ava threatened her and came at her, but Ric says, it was the other way around. Kristina went to Ava’s room. Kristina says, the police know everything and have photos that prove Ava was the instigator, and Ava says, Kristina is making a scene. Kristina only gets louder, saying, she hopes everyone knows Ava killed her daughter. Like she killed Connie and Morgan. She got away with it, but not this time. Ava says she’s sorry Kristina is in pain. She lost a daughter herself and understands. Kristina says, Ava’s got no idea. Ava got to spend time with her daughter. See her walk, her first steps, her first words. She didn’t get to hold hers once and is going to make sure Ava is in prison for the rest of her life. Ric says, Ava’s not going anywhere, and Kristina slaps Ric, knocking the glass out of his hand. She says, Ava will pay for what she’s done, when Alexis comes in.

Rocco and Danny are excited, and Dante says, Sam is going to give Rocco’s mom a part of her liver. Sam says she wishes she’d known sooner, but Dante says, they know now. That’s all that matters. The surgery is the day after tomorrow and they’re all going to be on their best behavior while she recovers. They’re going to take the best care of her. Rocco says, whatever she needs, he’s on it, and Sam says, Scout is quiet. Scout asks if she’s going to be okay. (Oh wow. I just had a thought. What if Sam ends up in a coma?)

Tracy says, Luke was an utter scoundrel, and Cody says, sounds like a good time. It sounds like there was more to him than a scam. Tracy says, it didn’t start that way; it evolved. They found reasons to help each other, and liking turned into loving. He says he guesses his entry into Port Charles wasn’t too different. Hopefully he’s cleaned up his image since then. She asks if he’s fishing for a compliment, and he asks what she’s got. She says, he never sets out to hurt anybody, Leo and James think he hung the moon, and he takes remarkable care of the horses. He says, and how does she feel about Cody Bell? and she says she likes him okay. He says, just okay? and she says, a lot. He says he likes her a lot too (me too!) and she says, that’s settled. Is there anything he wants to ask her?

Sasha says she knew Holly could go low…. but Holly says, it’s true. She’s sorry. Sasha says, it’s impossible, and Holly says she never told Sasha who her father was. Sasha says, even though she asked a million times, and Holly says, not telling her was a huge mistake. She realizes that now, but when she was pregnant, she thought Sasha’s father was dead. When he resurfaced, she saw that trouble had a way of following him. There are people who would have thought nothing of using her against him. Sasha says, so Holly was protecting her, and Holly says, the Scorpios have enemies. Mac does and so does her father Robert. (Oh wow again.)

Cody asks if Tracy wants to take Hades out tomorrow, and she says, early. He says he’ll have Hades saddled and ready to go. If he does end up getting Serenity, he’ll have made it happen on his own and not because he borrowed money from a good, very important friend.

Holly says, it’s difficult to hear and harder to accept, and Sasha says, Holly is a liar. Why should she believe her? Holly says, Robert is her father, and Sasha says, if that’s true, why didn’t Holly tell her before? Robert has another daughter, and danger didn’t keep him from having a relationship with her. Holly says she was scared. She couldn’t imagine showing up with a 12-year-old. Sasha says, she didn’t want Robert to hate her? and Holly says, yes, but Sasha says, Robert and Anna get along fine. Holly says, Anna did a better job of raising Robin, and Sasha asks if Holly is ashamed of her. Holly says she’s ashamed of herself. Robert is the love of her life – he still is – and she betrayed him. Sasha says, now Holly is asking her to betray Cody, and Holly asks, what would be the alternative? Sasha says, another con. Robert is her target and she’s up to the same old tricks. Holly says, whether Sasha believes her or not, it breaks her heart. Felicia told her that Cody is a lovely man and they’re happy together. She doesn’t want to ruin it, but there’s no way around it. They’re cousins. Sasha says she’s done with Holly. Stay out of her life and away from Cody. She leaves and Tracy comes in. She says, look what the cat dragged in.

Molly tells TJ that Kristina’s testimony is pivotal. She has to remain composed to walk the jury through the events and emotional enough to communicate her grief and loss. TJ says, and Molly doesn’t trust her, and Molly says, does he? Composure isn’t Kristina’s strong suit and there’s so much riding on it. She’s a timebomb waiting to go off. TJ says, and Molly’s father is skilled. He’ll get Kristina to say things that detract from Ava’s culpability. Kristina found Ava at the hotel. Molly says, she had no business doing that, but a physical altercation took place and that wouldn’t have happened if not for Ava. That’s the point they need to get across. TJ asks if that’s what she’d say if she were called to testify, and Molly asks what he’d say.

Alexis tells Ric that they’re leaving, but she’s not done. Ric says he won’t be pressing charges, but he can’t say the same for the restaurant. Alexis tells Kristina, let’s go, and Ric says, congratulations. She got a lucky break with the gun showing up when it did. She must have friends in high places.

Sam says she’ll be fine, and Scout asks if it will hurt. Sam says, the operation won’t hurt, but she’ll be in pain afterward, and Scout says, after they cut her open? Sam says, it’s a tiny incision, but she’ll be asleep, and Scout asks if she doesn’t need that part of her liver. Sam says, after they remove it, it will grow back. Isn’t that cool? Scout says, like it never happened? and Sam says she’ll be good as new. Dante says, Sam will have a private room, so they can all visit, and Sam says, they’d better. Scout asks if Rocco is happy, and Rocco says, so happy. Scout thinks they should have a party, and Dante says, they’ll have the party of the century. They fist bump.

Outside the Grill, Kristina tells Alexis that she’s fuming. Ava is living her life nothing happened, and her own uncle is defending Ava. Alexis says, it’s appalling, but if Kristina wants Ava to go to prison, stop helping the defense.

Ric asks if Ava is okay, and Ava says she’s used to Kristina’s temper tantrums. It’s not easy on him. The baby was his granddaughter. Can she ask him something? He says, why is he representing her when he believes the fall was an accident? If blame is to be doled out, it falls on Kristina. She’s out of control, as every person here can attest to… on the stand. Ava says, he set this up, didn’t he? but Ric just smiles.

Tracy asks, what golden opportunity brings Holly back to Port Charles? and Holly says she came back with Lucky and thought she’d pop in and say hello. Tracy says, and get into it with their cook. Did she have a problem with the scones? Holly says she missed their hospitality. What brings Tracy back? Tracy asks why Holly cares, and Holly says she understands they have a new stable hand, the long-lost son of Mac. Tracy tells Holly that she’s to have nothing to do with Cody.

Sasha goes to the stables, and Cody says, Tracy was just here. She said Sasha hit up Michael for cash on his behalf. It was sweet, but unnecessary. She kisses him.

Tracy tells Holly that Cody works here. He’s a friend and Mac’s son. How’s Ethan? Should they expect him to visit his sister anytime soon? Holly says, he didn’t take not being a match very well, and Tracy says, so instead of being with him, she came here. Why is that? She can see herself out.

As she and Cody are kissing, Sasha suddenly pulls away. She says she left a soufflé in the over. She’ll come back. She’s sorry. She’ll make it up to him. She jets, and he says, soufflés wait for no one. (I’m loving Sasha’s highlights. Martin isn’t the only one who got a makeover.)

Molly says, Kristina absolutely took matters into her own hands when she didn’t have to. She didn’t have to their baby at risk, but they wouldn’t have lost Irene… He says, without the Ava component. They’re on the same page. She says she missed feeling that way, and he says he’ll never forgive Kristina, but she didn’t throw herself out the window. Molly says, Ava did, TJ says, she has to pay, and they hug. (I’m just confused. Do they have a blame dartboard? I could swear just yesterday, they said it was all Kristina’s fault.)

Alexis says, Ric goaded Kristina and is going to use her behavior against her in court. He’ll say she’s unbalanced and volatile. Kristina says she’s a grieving mother, but Alexis says, it doesn’t matter. He’ll use it in court, say she’s targeting Ava, and that she created the circumstances that led to the baby’s death. If she wants the justice system to work, she needs to compose herself and let the system do what it does. Can she do that?

Ava says, Ric made that happen, but he says, more like it fell in his lap. He invited Molly, but she said she had plans. So he asked Alexis, but she said, no. She was having dinner with Kristina at the PC Grill. What better opportunity to get under her skin? Ava says she sees why Sonny hates him, and he says he’s more interested in what she thinks of him and his tactics. She says, the jury is out. Alexis is smart and knows what he’s up to. He says, fine. Kristina’s outburst is not a silver bullet, but they need all the help they can get. He’s going to break Kristina on the stand like he did tonight.

Scout says, they need a DJ and a disco ball, and Sam says she’s down for a party. Danny says, their prayers worked, but he never thought his mom would be the one to make it happen. Rocco hugs Dante, but Dante says he’s not the one to thank. Rocco says he owes Sam forever, and Dante too. Dante says he didn’t do anything, but Rocco says, Dante promised him donor and it happened. They have a group hug.

We see Lulu’s monitor, and all looks like it’s going well.

Tomorrow, Laura tells Tracy, that’s generous of her, and Tracy says she knows; Sasha says she’s not going to let her get away with it; and Felicia says, Holly needs to be honest with them.

🍊 Not From Concentrate…

Shannon said it was hard for her to be cool after Tamra wrecked her birthday dinner. She was done explaining herself, especially to Tamra. Katie and Tamra did spa stuff, and Katie wondered why Shannon couldn’t just talk like a normal human. And why was she getting plastic surgery when she couldn’t pay bills? In Tamra’s interview, she said, Shannon lived beyond her means. Tamra’s sole focus was just saving for retirement. Gina told Jenn about the text from Alexis that Shannon found. She said she couldn’t believe Tamra chose to attack Shannon for lying. In Jenn’s interview, she said Tamra would rather befriend Alexis if it meant taking down Shannon. Meanwhile, Tamra told Katie that Shannon’s superpower was making people feel sorry for her.

Fancy Pants Heather went to see Shannon. Shannon said she’d made it clear in Sonoma that she wanted the conversation to stay between them, but Fancy Pants said she heard Shannon on Jeff Lewis, and she was flippant. She thought if Shannon just paid the lawsuit, it would die away. Shannon brought out a bunch of papers ripped from a notebook with the totals of what she’d paid for during her tenure with Johnny J. She started throwing out figures and – $600 for dinner??? The only time I’ve even come close to that was on one – count ‘em, one – New Year’s Eve where there was a lot of expensive champagne involved. Fancy Pants and Emily couldn’t stop laughing about how Shannon kept her records, and in Fancy Pants Heather’s interview, she said she thought Shannon would be coming back like an accountant with ledgers and microfiche. An accountant in what year? 1972? Fancy Pants told Shannon that she couldn’t go to court with that, and Emily said, well, she could… and they both started laughing again. So did I.

Gina told Jenn that that Fancy Pants had seen Jenn’s Dolce & Gabbana tea party dress in Neiman Marcus and called Tamra about it. She said she wouldn’t buy something like that if she couldn’t make her car payment. Tamra told Katie about Jenn’s $2000 dress, bur Katie thought maybe Ryan bought it. Katie asked what the FBI business was about, and Tamra said, Ryan’s partner was a bookie and being investigated. Jenn and Ryan used to go to the Bahamas and Vegas all the time on private jets. You hear that? That’s the sound of me banging my head against the wall for my career choices and weeping. In Katie’s interview, she said she’s been where Jenn is. You get to the point where you have to trust your partner, then you get smacked with things and people think you’re an idiot. She’s learned to always have a Plan B.

Shannon aka the Duchess of Corona del Mar wore a tiara, and the group boarded a double decker bus. They rode on the top, where they did the Windsor wave, called out, ‘ello! and acted like idiots. Gina brought up the mammogram thing from last week, but Fancy Pants sent the conversation south real quick. Gina said she was made to feel bad, but Fancy Pants said, that was her problem. Some of the women went to buy chocolate where Queen Elizabeth used to get hers. I assume she didn’t shop for herself, but who knows? She was pretty feisty. Gina, Shannon, Emily, and Jenn went to a place that took old-timey photos. Gina said, the others were having all these conversations among themselves, then they got crapped on.

At lunch, Jenn called out Fancy Pants for relaying her dress info to Tamra. Fancy Pants claimed she was just worried about Jenn and told Tamra that Jenn didn’t need to wear fancy stuff to hang out with them. If you believe that, I have a bridge for sale. Jenn said, last year, the problem was her buying fake sh*t, and we flashed back to Tamra making fun of her. Emily says, Ryan bought it, and in Emily’s interview, she said she thought it was sad when women tried to be something they’re not. Same. Jenn told Fancy Pants, next time, talk to her directly, and Fancy Pants apologized. Then Jenn told Tamra that they were in a pattern. They’d get close, then Tamra would go ballistic. Tamra used the old that’s just me defense, saying that she needed to get it out and she did it wrong. In Gina’s interview, she asked how many times Jenn needed to get hit in the head before she wore a helmet.

Shannon told the group about Alexis’s text and wondered why Tamra hadn’t told them about it. Really. It’s not like she’s a stranger to spreading the word. In her interview, Emily said she was confused as to why Tamra and Heather were Team Alexis, yet held Shannon to the fire. Shannon told Tamra to stop talking about her and called her cruel. Tamra said, shut up, and whenever Shannon started to talk, she put up her hand. The 90s called. They want talk-to-the-hand back. Tamra said, bye, and Shannon said, you, bye. This is my trip. She jetted to the bathroom, and Fancy Pants said, this might be an inappropriate time, but this is the best onion ring I’ve ever had. Sometimes she is good for a laugh.

Shannon called it an early night, while the others jumped around and had PJ party, going to bed at 4 am. In Emily’s interview, she wondered why Tamra didn’t help Shannon be a better person, instead of berating and humiliating her. In Jenn’s interview, she put it more simply – Tamra has no soul. Tamra used their lives to make hers relevant, since her life was boring. Jenn told Tamra to leave her family alone. Jenn stormed out, and Heather said, that was a lot.

Next time, Windsor Castle; Shannon meets with her daughters; and Tamra wonders if Gina pushed Travis down the stairs. Which actually made me laugh.
