What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Anna sees Valentin at the MetroCourt and sits down. He says it’s a nice surprise, but he’s expecting someone for an important business dinner, and will need the chair back. She tells him that she went to Brussels with Andre; she decided to track down the midwife. He asks if she had success. She says the midwife passed away, but her daughter supplied some information. Why the hell did he lie to her?

Griff finds Peter in the examining room. He says he’s there for genetic testing. Griff says the hospital is backed up, but if it’s pressing, he’ll do it. Peter says he recently learned his father had Huntington’s disease.

Ava teaches Avery about minimalism. Kiki fawns over her, saying she’ll never study with this munchkin around. Ava suggests she take a break, and says maybe this time together will lead to a more permanent arrangement.

Carly tells Sonny that Mike is calmer, but he keeps asking if Morgan needs his room back. Sonny say she shouldn’t have to deal with this. She says his father is terrified, and unsure of losing himself to Alzheimer’s. Sonny doesn’t want it disrupting her and the kids’ lives, but she says they’re tough. Sonny asks what about Avery, and Carly says she’ll see that family sticks together. They need to be present for him, so he can be present with them. Sonny puts on his Captain Obvious hat, and says it’s going to be hard. Carly knows, and says Mike will have to make some decisions while he still can.

Drew goes to the art therapy room, and tells Franco that he had a chat with Jim. Franco has been hiding things from him, and it’s going to stop right now.

Jason tells Sam that Elizabeth sees Franco one way, and he sees Franco another. He told her the truth that he was going to leave Franco, but Sam wouldn’t let him. Sam tells him not to make her sound noble. She didn’t want to keep the secret; it’s not worth it. She says she still hasn’t told Drew that she loves him. Elizabeth hears them. Jason tells her they’ve said how they feel; that’s enough. She doesn’t have to do anything. Sam says, yes, she does. She needs to tell Drew that she’s been lying to him and herself.

Sonny asks Carly, what decisions? She asks if Mike has a will, and Sonny says it’s not like he’s at death’s door. She says he’s already having trouble with rational thought. Soon, he won’t be of sound mind, and won’t be able to make decisions, like about his end of life care. Sonny doesn’t want to do this right now, but she says they need to have the conversation while Mike is still lucid. He tells her, not right now, then apologizes for snapping. She says she doesn’t mean to push, but it’s scary; Mike is slipping already. Sonny says he isn’t up to it today, and he has to pick up Avery. They’ll talk about it tomorrow. They exchange I love yous, he leaves, and she sighs. She probably caught that from Jason.

Ava tells Kiki that Avery looks like an angel. Kiki wonders if she misunderstood. She thought last night was the sleepover. Ava says it was originally, but in all the confusion over the earthquake, she thought it would be better if Avery stayed another night. Kiki asks if Sonny agreed, and Ava says she’ll explain that Avery is already asleep. Kiki can’t believe it. He just gave her a major concession. Ava says he gave her nothing, and Kiki says, that’s right; she blackmailed him. Ava asks if they really need to do this, and Kiki says she can’t face the uncomfortable reality of what she’s doing. If she pushes it, she might destroy the little progress she’s made. Ava thinks things could change. Who thought six months ago, she’d be back at the gallery and be having Avery sleep over? Kiki adds that Ava and Griff are also a couple, but that could change if she’s not honest with him and herself. She gathers up her stuff, and leaves.

Griff asks if Peter’s father has shown any symptoms, but Peter says he passed away. He didn’t know the diagnosis until after his death. They didn’t have the best relationship. Griff tells him there’s a 50% chance of him inheriting the gene, and the disease usually presents itself between ages thirty and forty. He says there’s not much that can be done medically, except treat the symptoms. He asks if Peter has had any problems, but Peter says he’s been healthy his whole life. Griff says there are two schools of thought about it; to know or not. Finding out could lead to stress and depression. Peter says he needs to know, and Griff tells him that he’ll arrange tor a test today. He needs Peter’s medical history, and asks about Peter’s mother. Peter says he doesn’t know who she is.

Anna tells Valentin that the midwife kept detailed records, and she gave birth to a boy. Valentin says he saw a baby girl, but Anna says the document listed her alias, the date of birth, and said it was a boy. Valentin knows what he saw, or what he thought he saw. Anna asks what that was.

Drew tells Franco that Jim told him everything, and Franco calls Jim sleazy, saying he doesn’t believe a word Jim says. Drew says that Jim told him about Franco pushing him down the stairs, but Franco says he’s hiding something else. Drew tells him that Jim also claimed Franco told him to keep his mouth shut. He knows something else is going on, and Franco says, yeah, Jim is a liar.

Jason tells Sam that she doesn’t owe anyone any explanations. She says she’s confused; she loves Drew too. She doesn’t want to hurt either of them, and dragging it out just makes it worse. If she’d been honest from the start, they wouldn’t be having this problem. He tells her to do what she thinks is right, even if that means doing nothing. He says not to worry about him; take care of herself and the kids. If she needs him for anything, just call. Sam walks away and sees Elizabeth. They look at each other.

Anna wonders how Valentin could be confused. Her superiors never even suspected she’d been with Faison, but he did, and followed her to Brussels. He kept the secret all these years. How does such an excellent spy make a mistake like that? Valentin says the midwife handed the baby to the adoptive parents wrapped in a pink blanket, and he made the assumption. It might have been her intention, so there would be no trail. He asks if the records said anything else. She tells him to have good dinner, and leaves.

Peter explains to Griff that his mother abandoned him at birth. She was a working girl, but he doesn’t have much to go on, even if he cared to look. Griff says even if she didn’t have the gene, there’s still a 50% chance that he has it. Peter says he’s a top executive, and is concerned about his bosses finding out. Griff says it’s confidential, and no one can divulge the results without his legal permission. Peter says, let’s get started.

Elizabeth tells Sam that she startled her, but she’s glad she’s there. She thanks Sam for saving Franco’s life. Sam says, given what she just learned, she wonders if they should have left him.

Drew says he’s not going anywhere until Franco tells him. Franco says Jim is a liar, and Drew says so is he. He’s clearly hiding something. Franco says he’s been trying to piece it together. They were at the top of the stairs together; then Drew wasn’t there. Drew says Franco pushed him, but Franco’s not sure about that. He doesn’t remember, but what he is sure of, is that Jim was there. Drew was next to him, playing with a dragon he always carried around. Franco wanted him to go downstairs, but Drew wanted Franco to go with him. Then he was at the bottom. It’s fuzzy, but what knows for sure is that it didn’t go down the way Jim said. Drew says, he believes him.

Sonny asks Ava where Avery is, and Ava says she was so tired, she couldn’t keep her eyes open, so she tucked her in. He says it’s the agreed-on time, but she says Avery had other plans. He says he’ll bundle her up and carry her to the car. Ava asks him to let her stay, and she’ll bring her over in the morning. Would it be so terrible, since she’s already asleep? Sonny says that’s because Ava put her down, and Ava says they had a wonderful time. Avery is taken with art. Maybe she’ll turn out like her mom.

Kiki stops by David’s office. She wanted to take out a pharmacology book, but he’d already swiped it. He tells her that he was brushing up, and the book is on his shelf. She picks it up, and remarks that he has a first edition of Gray’s Anatomy. He says it’s the first US edition, so it’s not as prized. Collecting old books is a hobby. She thanks him. He says pharmacology class is rough, and asks how she’s holding up. She says she’s keeping her head above water – barely. He says he has some time, and can help her study.

Jason visits Carly, who is glad he’s okay. He says he’s fine, but she tells him that he says that even when he’s been shot; she needed to make sure. He notices she’s been crying, and she says things are tough with Mike; he keeps forgetting Morgan is dead. He’s losing his memory faster than they thought. Sonny understands, but he’s fighting it. Jason says it’s easier to be angry than sad. She says it breaks her heart; she can see in Mike’s face. He knows, and it’s killing Sonny. Jason tells her that she can get Sonny through this; she’s strong enough to get through anything. She tells him to keep reminding her. She needs a distraction, and asks what happened to him during the earthquake.

Franco is astonished that Drew believes him, but Drew says that doesn’t mean he trusts him. He just trusts Jim less. Franco says Drew is more rational than he thought he was capable of being. Drew asks why Franco thinks Jim is lying. Franco says when Jim first came to town, he told him Drew died, but Betsy only told him that after he’d confronted her about his imaginary friend. Which means Jim is in contact with his mother.

Elizabeth asks why Sam is so angry. Sam says she’s only saying this because if she was in Elizabeth’s position, she would want to be told. Jim told Drew the truth about why he was sent to an orphanage. Franco tried to kill him when they were children.

Anna sees Griff, and they talk about the earthquake. She says she was lucky with her home, and was in Brussels with Andre when it happened. He asks if she’s still obsessed with tracking down Faison’s son. She says he could have been an ally or a pawn. Griff thinks she’s not telling him something, and she says there’s more to the story.

Peter meets Valentin at the MetroCourt. Valentin trusts he’s fine, and Peter says he’s perfectly healthy for now. He just scheduled the test, and Valentin says he made the right call. He doesn’t want to second guess himself every time his mind wanders, or he loses his balance. Peter says attack the problem; no second guessing. He only has half of his medical history, since his mother is a blank. He wonders if she ever thinks about him. You’d think he’d come to mind, but on the other hand, she turned him over to his father without a backward glance. Well, he doesn’t really know that.

Jason tells Carly that he was at the Quartermaine’s, so it wasn’t so bad. Carly says she was stuck in the gallery with Nelle. She tells him about Nelle giving Josslyn the dress as a gift, and how it was really stolen from Crimson. She’s using Josslyn to get to Michael, and she wanted to tell her to her face. Jason says Michael told him about her helping Nelle, but Carly says she still despises her. He knows what she means. He and Sam saved Franco’s life, but that doesn’t mean he hates Franco any less.

Elizabeth tells Sam it must be a mistake, but Sam says Franco resented Drew, and pushed him down the stairs. It makes sense that Betsy put Drew in an orphanage. She wanted to protect him from Franco. He insisted he didn’t remember, but he lied. Elizabeth says the Franco she knows would have told her. Sam says instead of going to his own wedding, he went to Jim and told him to keep his mouth shut. He can’t be honest. Elizabeth tells Sam that she has no room to talk about honesty.

Franco tells Drew that the only person who can confirm or deny it is his mom, and she was gone before Christmas. Drew says it takes money and resources to disappear like that, and Franco says like the money and resources of a real estate mogul. He thinks Jim paid his mom to disappear. Drew says they can use him to find her. Franco asks if he just said “we?”

Sonny tells Ava the sleepover was the price for her dropping the charges against his father. She asks how Mike is doing, but she’s the last person he wants to discuss his father with. She says he is her daughter’s grandfather, and Sonny says he’s fine. He’s getting treatment, and will be staying in Port Charles. He can spend time with Avery, which is more than he can say for her. Ava says she’s Avery’s mother, and he asks if they’re going down that road. His son Morgan is dead because of her. She might want to forget, but he’s not going to. He goes into the bedroom to get Avery.

David goes over some things with Kiki, but she says there are too many terms; it’s not sticking. He tells her that she needs to relax; step away for an hour and have another try. She thinks she might never be calm and collected again. David says that’s where he comes in, and asks her if she’d like to go get a bite or a drink.

Jason tells Carly about Franco being pinned under the cabinet. He was going to leave, and if he had, Franco would be dead. The wall collapsed, and the trailer fell in and exploded, but he was long gone. Carly can see Jason saving almost anyone, but Franco. Jason says Sam talked him into it. Carly says, so Sam was there, and smiles.

Sam tells Elizabeth that she’s told her fair share of lies, and has her share of secrets, but it doesn’t compare to what Franco has done. Elizabeth says he had a brain tumor. Sam asks in her experience as a nurse if that’s how tumors work, or is it an excuse? What if that has nothing to do with who he really is? Elizabeth says she knows him; he’s a better man. Sam tells her that no one lies more than Elizabeth has to herself, and Elizabeth walks away.

Drew wants to make it clear, Franco is the last person on earth he wants to work with, but he has no choice. Franco says Drew has to admit, he’s more fun than Jason. Drew says no one more to lose than they do, and he can trust Franco will serve his own self-interest. Reluctantly, he’ll work with him to find out what happened when they were kids. If Jim is right, and he was a little psychopath, Drew will personally make sure he never sees Elizabeth again or comes near her family. Do they have a deal?

Anna tells Griff that her search is relevant to his specialty. Faison was suffering from a genetic disease; any child of his could inherit the defective gene. Felicia explained it to Maxie, and Obrecht told her that Britt’s test was negative. She’s trying to find Henrik and tell him. Griff doesn’t think she should, but she says it could affect his future decisions. Griff says it’s compassionate and admirable, and asks what he could have inherited. She says, Huntington’s disease.

Peter wonders if Faison thought his mother could be paid off, since he paid to sleep with her in the first place. She went on her merry way, and he grew up with a psycho. Valentin thinks he should put it in the past where it belongs. No matter what the results, he’ll work through it and Valentin will have his back, like always. Nothing has changed that.

David tells Kiki that he heard Charlie’s is up and running, and she deserves downtime. She says she doesn’t have time; she’ll have to clear her mind with a podcast in the car. He says he has something for her, and picks up the copy of Gray’s Anatomy. She tells him she can’t accept it, but he says he never gave her a gift for her acceptance to medical school. He writes something in it, and tells her now it’s inscribed; it’s too late to refuse. She reads, to Kiki, who knows more than she thinks she knows. Oddly enough, she doesn’t know what to say. He tells her to go with thank you, and she does. I’m not sure if he’s hitting on her or not, but she could do a lot worse.

Sonny brings out Avery, telling her daddy is taking her home and mama Carly misses her. Bleh. He’s annoying me. Ava is no saint, but he’s being way too mean. Ava says she heard how he rescued Nelle and Carly, and calls him heroic. She adds that the lock was expensive, and she’ll send him a bill. He tells Avery that daddy can fix anything, and tells Ava to do what she has to do.

Jason tells Carly how Sam convinced him, and they worked together get Franco free. They were still there when the aftershock happened, and they were hanging over the edge. It was close, and they barely got out before the trailer exploded. Carly asks if Sam said she loved him, and he asks why she would. Carly says, why wouldn’t she? He saved her life. There’s no better time to admit it. He says she did, and Carly says, well? He admits he told Sam that he loves her too. Carly asks him to tell her the words she wants to hear, and Jason says she was right. She says she’s so happy for them, but he says just because they said it, doesn’t mean they’ll be together. She says, who cares? They can figure the rest out later.

Sam remembers Jason telling her that no matter what, they know they love each other, and if that’s all it is, it’s enough. She gets in the elevator.

Franco says, deal. They’ll work together to find out the truth. He holds out his hand, but Drew doesn’t shake it. He tells Drew to understand one thing. He’d never hurt Elizabeth or her kids. Drew says the issue here is Jim, and Franco calls Jim a liar who lies. He’s not telling everything he knows, and they need a plan. Drew says he’s working on something. Franco asks if Drew wants to tell him, and Drew says he’ll be in touch. Franco says so this is their working relationship; Drew does stuff, and Franco waits by the phone.

Elizabeth comes to the art therapy room, and says Sam told her about Franco’s conversation with Jim.

Tomorrow, Josslyn asks if Michael is there to see Nelle, Elizabeth asks Franco if he tried to kill Drew, and Nelle wonders if something tragic can turn to something wonderful.

Vanderpump Rules

Ariana dreads going to laser hair removal. Tom asks if it smells like burning hair, and she says only if you don’t shave close enough. Great question, but I don’t want to know. They talk about how awesome Vegas was. Tom is happy, since he actually did something more productive than just drinking. He thinks he might have annoyed Ken and Lisa a little, but can’t help his enthusiasm. He hopes they don’t think he’s overstepping.

James puts his jacket on, since his dad is coming to see him DJ. It’s his first visit since the divorce, and James is happy to see him. His dad managed George Michael, and was also a DJ. It was a musical environment growing up, so James wants to make him proud. He asks what James is drinking, and Raquel reminds him that he’s not drinking anything tonight. He says his dad doesn’t understand about him getting crazy when he drinks, and doesn’t get why he’s not drinking while he works. Lisa arrives at SUR, and says hello to James’s dad. She knew him back in the day, but Ken was more his friend.

Brittany, Lala, and Scheana set up for Jax’s birthday at the Hooters where Brittany used to work. Brittany knows everyone wonders why she’s throwing Jax a party, but her mom said if she’s going to continue with the relationship, she has to leave the past in the past. In her interview, Stassi says when she found out Jax had cheated on her, she threw all of his sh*t out, moved out of the apartment, and drank all of his Cristal. She’s not getting why Brittany is throwing him a massive party. Jax says there’s nothing better than turning 38 and going to Hooters. It appeals to his inner child. Inner?

Scheana asks to talk to Jax. She tells him about Kristen repeating that Rob said he loves her, but isn’t in love with her. Jax asks if he’s said it, and she claims he has. He says Rob told him something different then. We flash back to that. She asks if he said he wasn’t in love with her, and Jax says from what he remembers. She says eventually they’re getting married, but maybe it’s slower than she wants. He says that’s what he means. In his interview, he says life isn’t a perfect Instagram story the way Scheana would like it to be.

Everybody chows down on wings and meatballs. Schwartz and Tom give Jax a gift box, and say he has to wear it. It’s a romper. They’ve gotten rompers for themselves, so he won’t feel alone. Brittany thinks it looks like he works for UPS, and he unoriginally tells her he has a package to deliver.

Billie and Stassi visit Kristen. Stassi is enjoying getting to know Billie; she’s never known someone with her story. There’s nothing bad she can say about her – at this moment in time. Billie tells them that Ariana’s brother, Jeremy, asked her on a date. Kristen asks if they’re going to a public place, and Billie asks, why? Stassi thinks he’s a little creepy. She was freaked out at Katie’s wedding. He wouldn’t leave her alone, and it gave her a sick feeling. We see a clip, and he seems overly enthusiastic at best. Kristen is hoping he’s not just looking for sex, and Billie asks them not to scare her.

Brittany and Scheana go to brunch. Brittany asks if she and Jax cleared things up. Scheana says they’re cool, and asks how it’s going with them. She thinks they seem happier, but wishes they were as happy as she is. She tells Brittany there are options. In her interview, Brittany wants Jax to be the fun person he can be, not the a-hole personality. He needs to buck up or sit down. Scheana gets a text from bartender Adam. He’s been asking about Brittany. In her interview, Scheana thinks he’d be the perfect guy for Brittany. She wants Brittany away from Jax and around anybody else.

The Toms work at the new restaurant site. Ken and Lisa supervise. Tom questions the logistics of the bar, and Lisa says they’ve built more bars than the two Toms have had hot dinners. She wants something that’s never been seen before. She wants him to check out other places, and their specialty cocktails, and think about a new twist they can put on them. In his interview, Tom says he got a little excited. He’s going to work on the best cocktails anyone has experienced. He suggests something with dry ice.

Billie and Lala visit Scheana. Before she makes drinks, she has some options for Billie to wear on her date. Jeremy and Billie both smoke weed, so she thinks they’ll be perfect for one another. If that’s the only criteria, I can see where Scheana makes her mistakes. I think there needs to be a little more than that. Billie tells them about what Stassi said, and how she and Kristen told her that Jeremy tries to date everyone. Lala says they tend to say things that ultimately affect someone’s life, and she’s not okay with them squashing Billie’s excitement. Billie tries on some outfits, and settles on – a romper.

Lala and Billie go to the bar to have a drink before her date. Lala says first dates give you the jitters and butterflies. Man bunned Jeremy arrives, and Lala jets. Say no to the man bun. Unless you’re Josh from Sweet Home Oklahoma. Billie says she’s nervous because she’s trans. Jeremy says she’s a woman now, and deserves to be acknowledged as one, which is actually the perfect thing to say. She asks why he’s so dope. Oh how I want to make a weed joke here, but it’s too easy.

James meets his dad for a drink at a weird tiny bar. They talk about James’s DJ gig, and James says it’s nice having people looking at him for once. His dad tells him that it’s his heritage; he’s given James his skills. James claims he’ll be on the Grammy stage with Lala one day. In his interview, James says George Michael being his godfather is the reason he’s into music. He says once things with George Michael went south, they lost a lot. He thinks it’s partly the reason his parents broke up. James thanks dad for being supportive, and we see a picture of James wearing headphones when he was three. In his interview, he says his dad is still pursuing music and finding new talent. He gets all weepy, saying he misses him.

Lisa asks Ariana if everything is okay. Ariana says they’re having a girls’ night, and Lisa wonders why she looks stressed. Ariana tells her that Stassi was saying mean things about her brother. Is it me, or does this sound like something someone would say in middle school? In her interview, Ariana finds it annoying that Stassi and Kristen spoke with authority, since they don’t know Jeremy. They don’t have to. The man bun says it all. That, and the clip of him at the wedding. Lisa thinks it’s ironic, since he saved the restaurant from burning down, and Stassi had once threatened to burn it down.

Lisa asks what Jeremy is up to, and thanks him for saving the restaurant. She says lots of people would have walked away. Either I don’t remember, or haven’t been following totally. Did he pull the fire alarm? Throw a blanket on something? Lisa gives him some cash to make his week easier, since he helped hers. Please adopt me, Lisa. I will pull all the fire alarms. Lala and Ariana leave to get dressed. Lala says they’re going to have fun, but also make a statement.

At the restaurant, Brittany is thrilled with her entourage. She says the girls don’t even like each other, but they’re at the same table supporting her. Lala says there’s an elephant in the room, and if she doesn’t address it, no one will. She likes Stassi a lot, but asks her why she told Billie that she hopes her date is in public. Stassi asks what she said (and actually, she didn’t say that; Kristen did). She wasn’t talking about him like he was a murderer, and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Scheana has to leave. Katie says that numerous women have said Jeremy was creepy and acting predatory at her wedding. In her interview, Ariana says if her eyes could melt skin off Stassi’s face, she would. Ariana claims she was hanging out with him all night at the reception. Katie says she’s just being an advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves. Ariana is insulted, as though Katie accused her of never being supportive of women. Lala comforts Ariana, who says they’re about to get to a place they won’t come back from, and decides to leave. In her interview, Stassi says Ariana is hypocritical. If Ariana says something about her, it’s a hard truth she needs to hear, but if anyone talks about her brother, it crosses the line. Katie asks if she wasn’t clear about what she was saying, and everyone looks like they have headaches.

At his apartment, Jax messes around on a set of electronic drums. Tom says it’s awesome, and Jax tells him that Brittany gave them to him, and set them up. In his interview, Tom says Jax must be thinking maybe he should cheat on Brittany before his next birthday, and see what he gets then. They jam a little, and Tom says he has to talk to Katie. She said stuff to Billie about Jeremy. We see a clip of Ariana telling Tom that Katie said Jeremy was a creeper at her wedding, and she was advocating for women who couldn’t be there. Tom tells her that’s complete and total bullsh*t.

Stassi and Kristen visit Katie, who has a project for the evening. There all kinds of bottles and jars on the table. Tom knocks on the door, and Schwartz tells him to proceed with caution. The girls are drinking and casting spells. Katie says they’re making perfume. Tom asks what’s up with them talking about Jeremy? He says Jeremy has had to deal with a lot of things, but the girls agree that he’s creepy. Schwartz says they can’t know him from one night. Stassi says she knows how he acts, and why would she make it up? Tom says because it’s convenient, which makes no sense whatsoever. In his interview, Stassi says he wasn’t there when Jeremy was hitting on her. He was busy playing his sh*tty trumpet solo. Stassi says she’s sick of men protecting men, and Tom says that’s not true, and she’d better watch herself; they all better watch themselves. To Katie’s credit, she remains serene, and doesn’t launch herself over the table to grab his throat. As I would have done, telling him that he’s the one who’d better watch it. Instead, she asks if he has any business there, other than telling people to watch themselves in her home. He tells her that she’d better get her effing facts straight. In his interview, Schwartz says he can see where Tom is coming from; these are serious accusations. On the other hand, Tom can’t be yelling at his wife. Tom says if they make up lies, he’ll start telling truths. Okay. Like everything isn’t on film.

Brittany’s dad calls. They’re making blackberry cobbler in Kentucky. In her interview, she says she hasn’t told her dad. He’s scary to talk to about things like that, and not as forgiving as her mother. She tells him something bad happened. She’s scared to tell him, and asks him not to be mad. Her dad tells her not to leave him dangling, and she says she found out Jax cheated on her with someone she knew. Her dad says it doesn’t surprise him. That’s his type; he has no control. Brittany tells him that’s exactly what he said when they were in Kentucky. We flash back to the Kentucky visit, when Brittany’s dad told her that he wasn’t 100% on board with Jax. She tells him that’s why she hasn’t talked to him on the phone. He says when it comes to hurting his kids, he takes it personally. Brittany says Jax is almost forty, and her dad says once someone gets to that age, he’s not sure they can grow up. She says that’s what worries her. She doesn’t know if it’s possible for him to change. Her dad tells her Prince Charming might still be out there.

Jax comes in, saying he heard fragments of her conversation. Brittany tells him her dad wasn’t surprised; he has no self-control. She’s worried her memaw will find out. In his interview, Jax says he’s not saying Brittany shouldn’t talk to anyone, but he doesn’t like her airing their dirty laundry. Here’s a hint: don’t cheat then. Brittany says he has to promise never to do it again. He says of course, immediately followed by telling her that she’s not perfect either. She says don’t turn it around, and he says there’s a reason she was called Brattany when she was a kid. I’m not sure I can take much more without flying to LA and hunting him down. In her interview, Brittany says her imperfections are things like not taking the dog out, or having too many tequila shots, not screwing one of Jax’s friends. She tells him she knows it’s hard, and he tells her if she’s not happy, maybe she should move on. Another hint: if he says something like that, go. And any guy who tells you he’s not good enough for you, probably isn’t.

Lala, Scheana, and Billie meet at a restaurant. Scheana wants Brittany to know there are other hot guys out there, and she doesn’t need Jax. In her interview, Scheana says she’s known Jax for a long time, and he’s not a tortured soul who needs a good woman to take care of him. He’s a super sh*t who does sh*tty things, and doesn’t deserve to be in a relationship with Brittany. Jeremy and Billie join them, along with Adam. They order shots. Adam is definitely into Brittany. In her interview, Brittany says Jax is really jealous. It kills him if he thinks she’s flirting or if someone flirts with her. She says if he saw this, he would crap his pants. Lala brings up what Stassi said about Jeremy, and says she doesn’t think he’s out to get people. In her interview Ariana says she’s never known Stassi not being out to get people, and now Jeremy is her victim. Jeremy says imagine how you would feel, and thanks them for sticking up for him. Scheana says it’s his SUR initiation.

Scheana pulls Brittany aside, telling her that she deserves the world. Jax hasn’t given it to her, and never will. Brittany says she loves him, and can’t just throw it away. She wishes she had answers. In her interview, she says no one sees the good in Jax. Obviously, he doesn’t always deserve the best, but she wants to stay with him because she’s still madly in love with him. This makes me just want to cry. Scheana asks if Brittany wants to be her. Divorced, no kids, no progress, thirty-two and starting over. In her interview, Scheana says she knows what it’s like to lie to yourself every day, saying everything is fine, and it will work out. She doesn’t want Brittany doing the same thing. Brittany says her brain and heart fight all the time. Scheana tells her that she’s better than that, and deserves better.

Next time, Lisa tries to talk sense into Brittany, the group goes to Mexico, and Lala calls Jax out during dinner.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Walking Dead

A carload of Saviors is out hunting for Morgan and Dr. Carson. Daryl sneaks around under a bridge. He’s leading a group scouting the roads. Tara tosses a zombie at Dwight, claiming it got away. Dwight kills it, and Daryl tells everyone to keep it moving.

Dr. Carson drives, and Gabriel asks if they’ve passed the Linus overpass, but the doctor doesn’t know. Gabriel says it’s going to be okay and have some faith. They’re on the right path if not the right road. He studies a map, but has difficulty focusing. Carson tells him that he’s is suffering from a serious complication. Does he really think God is leading the way? Gabriel says God is always leading the way, and Carson says maybe God should be driving. Gabriel jokes about Him leaving too many footprints, and a zombie drags itself along next to the car. Maybe Gabriel just needs glasses.

Carson asks about a mile marker, and if Gabriel can see it. Gabriel says he can’t, and Carson says he was stupid to let him leave, but he’s sick and there are antibiotics at Hilltop. Gabriel asks if he hears something, almost like a bell. I don’t. Carson isn’t too thrilled with leaving the car, but they walk through the forest, and come to a cabin. Gabriel says it’s not a bell, but might be their salvation. Carson doesn’t think so.

Rosita says the group needs rest. Daryl says, ten minutes. Tara asks why Dwight is still breathing; she’s done. Rosita tells her that he may have an angle, and tells her to knock it off; at least until they get to Hilltop.

Morgan and Henry guard the prisoners at Hilltop. Carol says she can take over. Jared yells that the kid is freaking people out, and they should move him along. The Saviors are going to roll up and let them out anyway. Henry asks Morgan, who killed his brother? Morgan tells him to go and eat. Henry asks Carol why they’re not telling him. She says he’s a child, and he’s done too much already. Morgan tells her that Henry knows how to live, and it doesn’t bother him. She says he’s not fine, and neither is Morgan. She tells him to take a break, and takes a turn as guard.

Negan is disappointed. This crap should be over. His only doctor and that creepy-ass priest jumped ship without anyone knowing. He asks if Eugene has any idea how it happened, but Eugene is not venturing any guesses. Negan says Carson is a weasel like his brother, and once their asses are caught, he’ll get the whole story – one way or another. And Alexandria – Eugene asks what went down there, and Negan asks why does he care? They tried to blow him off the earth. He tells Eugene that he’s going to be in charge of his own outpost. He needs his bullet-maker to be making bullets. He’s going to provide the next bang-bang Negan needs to settle this situation for good. Eugene asks what about people as resources, and Negan says bullets are a last resort. If Rick and his merry band of pricks decided to pull sh*t, then they’ll have to pull sh*t. It will be some that they don’t want, but it’s on them. Eugene is going to have everything he needs to keep his head in the game. Eugene asks if there will be wine, which would be my first question, and Negan says there will indeed.

Inside the cabin, Morgan shakes a piggy bank and laughs. He tries to read something from a notepad. Looking out the window, Carson says, clear so far. He tells Morgan that he should be lying down. It’s lucky they found this place. Morgan says luck had nothing to do with it. Morgan gives Carson the pad, and Carson says the owner was a radio operator. He looks through the pad, the owner writing that even if he can’t be helped, maybe he can help someone else. There are pages of radio calls, but they all say, no signal. Morgan says that they don’t know if others might have been reached, but the operator never found out. Or maybe it gave them strength to go on, even if they didn’t reach anyone. Carson opens the bedroom door. He sees a zombie cuffed to the bed with a plastic bag over its head. He says, didn’t happen.

Daryl goes over the map. Rosita thinks they should keep moving. Daryl wonders about the swamp. Dwight says it’s one place the Saviors won’t be. Negan thought it was too dangerous and not worth the risk. Tara asks if Daryl is seriously considering what Dwight has to say. If it’s too dangerous for the Saviors, why send them? Why should they trust Dwight? He could turn on them like he did his own people. Dwight says they all saw what happens if one of them gets away. If they find him, his head will be on a pike. He’s not fighting for them, and he’s not going back there. He wants to help them beat Negan. After that, he knows how it ends. Daryl says, fine; they’ll try the swamp. Tara is stunned.

One of the Kingdom Hilltoppers tells Maggie that they finished taking inventory. They’re barely going to make it through another week, and it will be worse if they include the prisoners. Jesus is still out scavenging, and might bring something back.

Carson takes a gun from the corpse, and tells Gabriel to lie down; he’s fighting a serious infection. Gabriel gives Carson some prescription bottles, and he looks through them. He says two are antibiotics, and this may have just saved his life. Gabriel tells Carson that he’s not saying a word.

Dwight says he’s doing it for Sherry. She let Daryl out and ran; she must be out there somewhere. Daryl looks at the swamp. Rosita says they can do it. Someone suggests a small group push through, and make a path for the others. Rosita asks if Tara is coming, but she’s hanging back. The small group starts to walk through.

Maggie asks Gregory what he wants. He says they haven’t seen eye to eye, and loyalties have been questioned, but his behavior has been good. She says he’s staying in there. He says she can’t keep him there forever, and she tells him give her a reason to kill him and she won’t have to. Another prisoner says they’ve been good, and she still took one out; they don’t have to be enemies. Maggie asks what Gregory wants. They want to go outside on good behavior; one at a time under armed guard. Maggie says she doesn’t have the resources to oblige, even if she wanted to. And BTW, she’s cutting off their rations in a few days, maybe longer. Her people come first; she has no choice. Gregory thinks she does.

Rosita and the others continue through the swamp. A zombie pops up in front of her, and she stabs it in the head. Daryl is impressed. Groot! Never mind. It’s just a tree. Zombies start to rise from the water like something out of Creepy comics. Daryl and Siddiq go through the water, stabbing them one by one.

Tara tells Dwight he just volunteered to kill some zombies, and gives him a knife.

Carson says Gabriel’s fever has broken. He tells Gabriel that if there’s no improvement in his eyesight soon, there will be permanent damage. Morgan is like, oh well, and Carson asks if losing his vision doesn’t scare him or piss him off. Gabriel says he’s letting Him lead the way. He tells Carson that he can’t see it, but can feel the look on his face. He’s not saying God led them there, but to find meaning in it. He knocks the piggy bank over, and it breaks. Carson finds car keys and a map inside. He looks at the map, and says they’re no more than a few miles off.

Tara follows Dwight through the forest, covering him with a gun. He stabs a zombie. He tells her that he’s sorry about Denise. He truly is. He doesn’t expect forgiveness; he doesn’t deserve it. He just wants her to know. She says he should have stayed with the Saviors. He says he hates them. He hates Negan. Tara doesn’t care. She says switching sides doesn’t make it okay; it never will. He asks what killing him will do, and she says, make her feel hella better. She shoots at him, but he ducks behind a tree, and runs. He stops in a clearing. He says he knew it would happen, but he’d wanted to help them win first. They hear people coming, and hide.

It’s the group of Saviors from the car. Tara holds the gun to Dwight’s head.

Carson and Gabriel head for the garage. Gabriel looks up, and a warning sign comes into focus. He yells for Carson to stop, but it’s too late. Carson steps into an animal trap. His leg is caught, and here comes a zombie. Oh, great. Now they’re coming out of the woodwork… er, forest. Carson shoots at one, but another falls on him. He shoots that one, but there’s another right behind, and he drops the gun. Gabriel crawls over, and finds the gun. He blindly shoots, and miraculously hits the zombie and not Carson. Carson says he did it, and Gabriel says he might have had some help.

Tara continues to hold the gun on Dwight. She looks like a nut. Dwight walks out to the road. One of the Saviors says they thought he was dead. He says he got caught in an ambush, but got away. He spent the night hiding and running, and trying to make it back. He asks what happened to Laura, and they say, sorry, no one has seen her. They’re going to Alexandria, and thought they’d check out the swamp. Dwight tells them that he just came from there, and to steer clear of it. He takes a gun from one of them, and says he’ll lead the way. Tara can’t believe it. She’s surprised all over the place tonight.

Rosita tells Daryl that she saw Tara running after Dwight. He asks why Rosita didn’t stop her, and Rosita says, no one could have stopped her. When she gets back, Dwight gets in Tara’s face, saying he told her to wait. Dwight could tell them everything. She says he saved them; he led the Saviors away. Daryl doesn’t care, and starts cursing everything. Then he sees Tobin covering Judith’s ears, and says, let’s go. They start to maneuver through the swamp.

Gabriel asks if Carson wants him to drive, but that’s a no. They get in the car, and hear, hands up, a-holes. They turn around, and it’s the Savior group now joined by Dwight. They’re deposited in the bed of the truck. Gabriel tells Carson that He’s still leading the way. Believe it, and he’ll see it. What Carson sees is an unattended gun on a Savior, and grabs it, but gets shot. As the truck pulls away, Morgan weeps, and says, no, no, no. I say, no surprise this show is a total bummer. Always.

The gates of Hilltop open. Daryl and the others walk in. Carol runs to greet them. We only hear music, so we can’t hear what they’re saying, but Daryl shakes his head. Enid cries, and sinks to the ground. Siddiq looks tired. Maggie comforts Enid.

Morgan says Henry asked about who killed his brother. It was Gavin, and he got him, so…

Siddiq thanks Maggie for her hospitality. She says it’s not much, but he tells her, its everything. He asks if there’s an infirmary, and she asks if he’s hurt. He says he’s fine, but has medical experience. He can pitch in and help. She explains they’re using the trailers, and thanks him. She watches everyone interacting.

Eugene makes bullets. Frankie (I think – whoever the redhead is) says he was destined for this. He tells her to be there, she needs gloves and proper eye protection. She thought she’d help, and he says she can help by bringing some food – eggs nicely dancing with tomatoes. He’s going to designate the northwest corner as a breakroom and motivational presentation cubby.

Negan kicks the door open, and brings in Gabriel. He says Gabriel told him an interesting story about how he made his way out of their lovely home. We hold our collective breaths for a beat or two, and he says it was Carson. Negan asks if he called it or what. Gabriel asks why bring him here, and Negan says he needs an extra set of hands to separate casings. Gabriel’s eyes don’t work for sh*t, but his hands do. Eugene says it will still be a few days, but Negan says that doesn’t work for him. They need a more Biblical approach. Eugene says they could rig catapults, and launch dead arms, legs, and heads, creating traumatic theatrics. Negan thanks him. He believes a rose sprang into the pile of sh*t. He tells the guys, let’s roll, and whistles as he leaves.

Eugene goes to Gabriel. Gabriel says he thought he found what he was meant to do. Eugene says, he has, and so has Eugene. He tells Gabriel to get to work.

Maggie approaches the prisoners and points at one. She says they’re to be taken out in pairs for work, exercise, and medical attention. They can start by cleaning the stables. Gregory thinks since they’ll be working, they should get more food, but she says quarter rations, same as always. He appreciates it, but the Saviors are still coming. He thinks they should consider evacuation. If they run, they live. He asks how they could win, and she tells him to look around.

Outside, Negan addresses his people while standing in front of three zombies chained to a fence. He says they know how it works. You get a bite, something from them gets in you, and you join the club. But what if they can use it to their advantage? He whacks at a zombie with Lucille. He tells them Lucille is getting to know their friend. He bashes and pokes at the zombie, until Lucille is covered with blood and rotted flesh. He tells them to look at that. No more smashing and bashing; just a touch, just a kiss. Hilltop will learn to comply, dead or alive. Or some kind of sh*t in between.

Next time, Negan orders the Saviors to let them turn, don’t kill them; and Negan tells Rick that he failed his boy and his people – let Negan save them.

🎭 The Good News & the Bad News

Sunday, April 15th is a big day. Sadly, your taxes are due the next day, but Fear the Walking Dead (which Morgan will be a part of) also returns at 10 pm on AMC, and Southern Charm New Orleans premieres on Bravo at 9 pm. The original Southern Charm will be back on Thursday, April 5th at 9 pm. They’ve already tried with Savannah, which was a snooze, and IMO, it would be tough to top the Charleston cast. Who can resist the Peter Pan that is Thomas; his off-again-on-again squeeze, and mother of his children, fiery Kathryn; matriarch of the South, Patricia, and her baby boy Whitney; dreamer Craig; perpetual adolescent Shep; weepy roller coaster ride Landon; and Cameran, avoiding motherhood since the beginning of time, finally having a baby?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Maxie doesn’t know what she was thinking, bringing Peter along. He has other things to do, like run a company. Peter says he volunteered. The company will be fine. He wonders if she’s changed her mind, but she says she hasn’t. She asks him not to tell Nina; she might freak out.

Meanwhile, Nina is already in Kim’s office. She has a question about pregnancy.

Maxie tells Peter if Faison had a 50% chance of having the disease, and so did Nathan, that brings her baby’s chances down to 25%, which is practically nothing. Peter says she has to deal with the facts. She tells him that’s easy for him to say, when he doesn’t have to worry about it. Jason is wandering around, and Maxie says she never got a chance to introduce them. So was Henrik wearing a mask the whole time at the clinic?

Mike says that Sonny wanted him to come for a visit, so he came for visit. That’s all. He’s not moving in.

Franco and Elizabeth kiss. He’s glad she’s okay. She thinks it’s weird that Jason and Sam were the ones who rescued him. He says irony aside, he’s glad they didn’t get hurt. Elizabeth can’t wait to hear the whole story. She tells him that he should check on his dad. He was pretty out of it, but did manage to say he was sorry Franco’s secret kept him from their wedding day.

Sam tells Drew they have to talk when they get home, but he says they should talk now. Jim comes out of the elevator, and says he’s glad he caught Drew. He hopes he’s not interrupting anything important, but Drew says it’s not a good time. Sam tells him that they need to get home. Drew tells Jim that his wife almost died at his Charles Street site. Jim wonders what she was doing there, and Sam says saving someone trapped in the trailer. Jim asks, who? and Drew says, Franco.

Franco tells Elizabeth not to take stock in anything Scotty has to say. She says Scotty told her that Franco loved her, and felt awful that his secret kept him away. She’s just glad he’s okay. He says if he hadn’t gotten sidetracked by the earthquake, he would have been there on time. She says clearly something is eating him up, and don’t pretend. He asks if it would be okay if he didn’t tell her. She asks if they’ll be okay if he doesn’t.

Nina tells Kim that she was pregnant in her early 20s. Kim says she read Nina’s history of complications. Nina says that’s a nice way of saying she was in a coma, and the baby didn’t make it. She was told she could never get pregnant again. Kim says she’s sorry, but Nina says she moved on and came to terms with it. She’s now a stepmother to an amazing girl; life has a way of working out, and she’s very lucky. Her sister-in-law just lost her husband, Nina’s brother Nathan, and he’ll never see his baby. Kim is sorry for their loss. Nina says she’s heard great things about Kim, and maybe she can look at her case with fresh eyes. There have been advances in reproductive medicine, and she’s wondering if there’s any chance she could get pregnant again.

Peter says he was in the room when Jason broached the subject of Nathan’s interview to Lulu. Maxie wonders how that happened, since he doesn’t work there. He’s usually oblivious of the media, unless he’s hiding from it. Jason says he was hoping to draw out Faison’s son, Henrik.

Mike says he always loved Port Charles. Sonny has done well, but it’s too big for his taste. Brooklyn is more his style. He’s at home there; it’s where he belongs. He has to go back. He’ll say his goodbyes now, and get a head start in the morning. Sonny tells him to hold on. He’s starting to think Mike has a problem with him. Mike says, no, and Sonny asks why he’s in such a hurry then. Why is he so anxious? Mike asks why Sonny is anxious for him to stay. He tells Sonny to say it. He doesn’t think Mike can hack it on his own.

Nina was wondering if there have been any recent breakthroughs, but Kim says she’s not aware of any that would help Nina’s situation. She wishes there was something she could do, and Nina says it was worth a shot. She’s still lucky; she has an incredible family. They could have used some good news. Kim asks if she’s getting enough rest. Nina says she’s just going through the motions, and doesn’t know what’s real. She’s trying to keep it together for her family.

Maxie asks Jason what he’s going to do to Henrik, and Jason says first he has to find him. She says he has Spinelli, and they’ll track him down, but then what? Jason says he’s going to ask why Henrik kept him live, and why he was kept prisoner at the clinic for five years. Maxie wonders if he’s going to ask if Henrik was in on Faison’s kidnapping plan. Jason says he talked to Faison, and he seemed angry that Henrik didn’t kill him. She says he may have been lying, and Jason says, anything is possible. Maxie says if Henrik wasn’t in on the plan, he didn’t do anything to hurt her, and it wouldn’t be fair to hurt him. But if he was helping Faison, she wants to make him pay.

Mike says Sonny thinks he’ll make a mess of things if he’s on his own. He gets respect in his neighborhood, and he has responsibilities. Sonny says he talked to Caruso, and all that ended after the last mix-up. Carly says she’d welcome a chance to spend more time with him. He says she’s the one who told his girlfriend to ditch him. Carly says she’s sorry if she spoke out of turn, but don’t let her mistake ruin anything; his family is here. He says he’ll visit more often. Sonny tells Mike that he’s not himself. He doesn’t want him cooking dinner, and burning down the apartment. Mike says, why? It will get his deadbeat dad out of his life for good.

Elizabeth tells Franco that they talked about secrets. If they get married, they have to trust each other, whatever they’re dealing with. Franco says at some point, his past will be too much, but she says that hasn’t happened yet. He doesn’t know how she does that; it turns his stomach. She says whatever he tells her, she can roll with it. She knows his struggles. She doesn’t always agree with his methods of dealing with things, but she’s seen him confront his demons and put them behind him. She loves him, and continues to believe in their love. Franco flashes back to Jim saying that one day Elizabeth will lose faith. Franco says he does believe. That’s why he came to the church where she was waiting. She says, where she knew he’d show. They agree not to let the past get in the way, and embrace.

Jim tells Sam he must have just missed them. Sam says, he was there? Jim says he and Franco were both thrown, and when his head cleared, he ran to call for help. By the time he came back, they were gone. Jim is impressed that Sam saved Franco, and she tells him that Jason was with her. She wonders why Franco was there instead of at his wedding. Jim says there’s something they need to know about Franco.

Sonny asks, if he wants to get rid of Mike, why is he trying so hard to get him to stay? Mike says they’ll be telling him what to do, and track his every move. They’ll lock the door and throw away the key. It’s revenge, plain and simple. Sonny wants to him get back because he left Sonny’s mom. Sonny says, wrong. Does Mike think he wants to see his dad deteriorate little by little? Mike says nobody is asking him to be a hero. Just let him go.

Kim tells Nina there are advances all the time. She can always hope. Nina says she’s trying to find balance with hope and self-indulgence. She has a stepdaughter to fill the emptiness in her heart, and she needs to focus on her upcoming niece or nephew instead of a pipe dream. Kim tells her not to hesitate to reach out. Nina leaves the office, and sees Maxie and Peter.

Franco busts into Scotty’s room, startling him. He asks why Scotty is so jumpy, and Scotty says he thought it was Epiphany. He complained about the chipped beef, and she threatened to take his button away. Franco wants to know why Scotty sabotaged his future with Elizabeth.

Elizabeth sees Jason. He asks if Jake is okay, and she says the boys thought the earthquake was epic. He guesses it depends on your perspective. She says they were with Bobbie, and it was fine where she lives. He says he was at the Quartermaine’s. A few things got broken, and that was the worst of it. She tells him the boys have off from school. She would tell him to stop by, but doesn’t think Jake is ready. Jason understands; He just wanted to make sure Jake was okay. Elizabeth thanks him for the both of them for saving Franco. He says, honestly, if it had been up to him, he would have left him there.

Drew tells Jim to talk. He says Franco came to him, hyped up. He said he remembered something, and wanted Jim to confirm what he did to Drew. Betsy gave him away because of Franco. He pushed Drew down a flight of stairs, then laughed. A kid young as he was, tried to kill him. Please don’t tell me they believe anything this jerk has to say.

Mike tells Sonny, let’s make it easy. He’ll go home, they go back to their lives, and pretend this never happened. Sonny says until he gets a call about Mike walking down Neptune Avenue in a bathrobe. Mike says, who cares? It’s by the beach. He says Sonny is worried he’ll embarrass him. What else is new? He’s always been embarrassed by Mike. Carly tells Sonny to back off. She tells Mike that they would love for him to stay, but can’t stop him from going. Sonny says unless a judge says he’s not competent. Carly says they’re not doing anything. He’s welcome there any time. Sonny says he’ll make sure his people look after Mike, and Mike says now Sonny is palming him off on strangers. He tells Sonny not to hire anyone. He’ll get along fine with Tammy’s help. Carly asks if that’s a friend of his, and he says that’s his girlfriend, Tammy Hanson. Carly says she moved away a long time ago. Mike says they live together. He thinks about it, and says not Tammy; it’s Mary. Sonny says, it’s Rita.

Nina says Maxie didn’t have an appointment today. Maxie says she wasn’t expecting to see her. Kim tells Maxie and Peter that she’ll be right back, and to on in. Nina follows them, and tells Maxie that she thought they’d synced their calendars. Maxie says they did, but it was last minute. She just needed a test done, and she ran into Peter, who insisted on coming so she wasn’t alone. Nina asks what test, and Maxie says an amniocentesis. Nina asks if the baby is okay, and Maxie says that’s what they’re there to find out.

Drew says, so Franco tried to kill him when they were kids, around two or three years old, and Jim says he saw it. He happened to be watching them. Betsy went to the market, and he turned his back for half a second. When Betsy came home, she was horrified, and made up a cover story. The incident made her realize that she couldn’t keep both of them. What if Franco hurt him again? So, she decided to give him away. She knew he’d be okay on his own, but Franco was a detriment to himself and others, and she’d keep trying to fix him. Sam asks why he didn’t say anything before, and he says he felt guilty. If he’d kept a better eye on them, it wouldn’t have happened. He’d thought Franco had forgotten, but when he remembered, Jim knew he hadn’t changed a bit.

Franco knew Scotty would never play the role of a doting father. Scotty says a stab in the back is better than a severed artery. He was bleeding out at the church. Franco says, then you call 911, not blab private business. Scotty says he was in shock. Franco says Scotty doesn’t get to speak for him unless he’s on retainer. Scotty gets it. He’s glad Franco is alive, and Franco says he’s glad Scotty is too. Scotty asks where he was.

Jason tells Elizabeth that Sam was at the Quartermaine’s and wanted to check on Drew. They found Mike, who said someone was trapped. Sam took him while Jason went to search. Elizabeth tells him that Sam left Mike with her at All Saints, and to thank her. She’s glad Sam made it back. He says she found him, along with Franco pinned under a cabinet. He was going to leave him, but Sam wouldn’t let him. She’s the one who saved Franco’s life.

Nina tells Maxie that she could believe Faison had a brain disease, but Nathan? Maxie says there was a 50% chance Nathan would have it, and he’d want her to check the baby. Nina asks why Maxie didn’t tell her, and Maxie says she didn’t want to worry her. Nina says it’s her job to worry, and Maxie’s job to carry the baby to full term. They’re in this together.

Mike asks what happened to Rita, and Carly tells him that she said she wanted to be by herself. She says she thought she told him, and he says he would remember. She tells him it must have slipped her mind. Rita cares about him, but wants to be by herself. Mike says, who could blame her? She’s a nice lady, and they had a good run. She didn’t sign up for what’s happening to him. Sonny says he’s sorry, and Carly has an idea. Since things aren’t working out with Rita, why doesn’t he stay longer with them? He’s already a big help around the house. He says it’s not his place; it’s his son’s and Sonny might not like it. Carly tells him not to be silly. The thing about families is that stuff comes up, then it gets better.

Scotty says, Jim was there when Drew took a header? Franco says when he confronted Jim, he said he was supposed to be watching things. It got quiet, and he checked on them. He saw them on the stairs, and Franco pushed Drew. He was smiling when he did it. Scotty says it doesn’t add up. Franco says there’s something Jim isn’t saying. He knows Franco knows something. That’s why he left him in the trailer. Scotty says Jim didn’t want him to make it. He would have been a goner if Sam and Jason hadn’t shown up.

Elizabeth tells Jason if they hadn’t saved Franco, she and Jake would be grieving for someone they love. Jason says that’s what Sam said; it wasn’t worth her or Jake’s grief.  He says he can’t change what Franco did, so he’ll have to try and accept it, and move on. Elizabeth says he can do more than that. He can consider the possibility of redemption.

Jim says he told Franco that he remembered change came over him, and Franco threatened him. He told him not to breathe word about it, especially to Drew. Drew says, or what? Jim says he didn’t ask; Franco’s eyes said it all. He remembered that look from when Franco was a kid. At that moment, he realized Franco hadn’t changed. Now he’s marrying that nice woman with the beautiful kids. He tracked Drew down, since he’ll know what to do. Jim leaves, and I get the feeling Drew isn’t completely buying this. I hope not. Jimbo was being a tad dramatic too.

Drew tells Sam if it’s true, than something needs to happen. He’s going to take care of this. He walks away, and Sam calls after him, asking what he’s going to do.

Kim says she’s ready, and Maxie says Nina is staying. Nina walks Peter out, and he says he hopes he didn’t overstep. She says she’s sure his intentions were pure, but he is Maxie’s boss. In this age of enlightenment, it’s best he keeps it professional. He says of course. He sees Nurse Deanna, and asks if she knows of a doctor who can give him a full genetic workup.

Franco tells Scotty he can’t worry about Jason. He’s going to hate him forever. Sam wouldn’t let Jason kill him, so he considers it a win. He needs to focus on Elizabeth, and set a new date. Scotty thinks they should do everyone a favor and elope. Franco says first, he has to figure out this things with Jim. Scotty says don’t tell Elizabeth, but are the rings insured?

Mike supposes he can try living there for a bit, and see how works out. Carly says, great. Michael and Dante will be happy. Mike says he’s tired, and asks Sonny to tell Caruso he’s been delayed, and might not make the drop-off on the dot. Sonny says he’ll tell him, and Mike says, but he’ll be there. He goes upstairs. Sonny looks even more tired than Mike.

Drew finds Franco. He wonders if Franco is the man who saved his life, or the guy who tried to kill him.

Elizabeth tells Jason that Franco wasn’t in control, but he’s still sorry. Every day he tries to be better and make amends. Jason says he found Michael in his prison cell, raped by a man that Franco sent. He watched as Franco carried out a naked Sam, and made them think he had raped her. He can’t consider the possibility. He let him live, and hopes he gets what he deserves. Elizabeth leaves, and Sam asks if everything is okay. Jason says everything is the same. Elizabeth sees Franco one way, and he sees Franco another. Sam asks if it wasn’t enough that they saved his life. Jason says he told her the truth; he was going to leave him there, and she wouldn’t let him. Sam says don’t make her sound so noble. She didn’t want to keep the secret. In the end, it’s not worth it. Sam says she still hasn’t told Drew that she loves him. Elizabeth hears.

On Monday, Mike has to make decisions, Ava hopes to get a more permanent arrangement with Avery, and Drew tells Franco that he’s going to stop hiding things.

🙆 Tabatha & My Digression of the Week

I’m loving Relative Success with Tabatha. She’s one of those people like Gordon Ramsay, with a hard exterior, but extremely caring on the inside, who can wear as many hats as you can stack on their heads. I love a business improvement show, and so far, Tabatha has perfected a jewelry business, a gym, a deli, a pizzeria, a design team, and a restaurant. The twist here being that every business is family owned and run, I’m amazed at how diplomatic Tabatha is, although at least once she’s had to remove herself from the room before saying something she’d regret.

While I’ve never had first-hand experience being part of a family business, I can tell you this much – you do not want to work for one. My post high school job before moving to NYC, was working for an Army/Navy store that was family run, and they all worked there in some capacity. The main owner, and patriarch, was a great guy, but he was hardly ever around, mostly working in another branch of the store. His oldest son and daughter-in-law, however, were always around, and always fighting. Showdown in aisle 13! They weren’t shy about sharing every detail, and you didn’t even have to ask. It did have its perks though. We got massive discounts, and they had very cool stuff. I still have some of the clothes I bought there. I also went out with the owner’s younger son once. Only once not because we didn’t click, but we both moved. Although the date did have a couple of awkward moments. We went to see The Man Who Fell to Earth at the arthouse cinema, and he forgot his wallet. We went back to his house to get it, and of course I had to go to the bathroom. And of course his father came home in the meantime. After I was living in the city, and my absent-minded date was in pilot school in Florida we wrote back and forth a bit. In one of the letters he sent, he told me about a subway token he’d found on the beach there. He was including it, since I could use it more than he could, but there was no token in the envelope. A day later, I got a note from him, along with the token, saying, does this remind you of another time?

Next time on Tabatha, a real estate office. She also gives me my first favorite quote of the week.

This family is f**king crazy. Tabatha Coffey

March 8, 2018 – Anna Gets Surprising News, a Winning Chef, Tardiness & a Little Spice

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the hotel, Maxie runs into Peter putting his room tray out. She tells him she locked herself out of her room, and is going to have to go to the lobby in her PJs for a new card. He insists she use his phone.

At a restaurant in Belgium, Andre tells Anna it doesn’t look like Port Charles will be rebuilding for a while. At least her loved ones are all right. Anna says Felicia and Griff texted. He asks about Finn, and she says she didn’t hear from him, but Griff said he was working in the ER all night. Andre says she must be glad he’s safe. She changes the subject, saying she’s grateful for Andre’s help in tracking down the midwife. He says being a medical professional has its perks. A woman approaches the table, and says she’s Michaela, the midwife. How old was she when she delivered Anna’s baby? Ten?

Sonny tells Carly that everyone is accounted for. Carly can’t believe Josslyn is okay, and Michael is supposed to be released this morning.

Nell looks at Michael’s picture on her phone. Monica asks how she’s feeling, and Nelle says shaken up, but all right. Luckily, Carly was with her, and she’s not being facetious. Carly did a good job calming her down. Monica says Michael has been released, and should be there any minute.

Jason asks how Michael’s head is, and Michael says he’s gotten the all clear. He asks what happened to Jason, and Jason says, a lot. He just dropped Sam off to check on Drew.

Sam asks how Drew is feeling, and he says fine, now that she’s here. He’s fine and the kids are fine; what about her? She says she made it through without a scratch, but she did go to look for him. He can’t believe she went alone. She says she wasn’t. She was with Jason.

Anna says it must be a mistake. The midwife who delivered her baby would be seventy at least. Thank you. Michaela says she must be looking for her mother; they’re both midwives. Anna asks if they can contact her, but Michaela says she died last year. Anna and Andrew give their condolences. Andre asks if she kept any records. Anna says she wasn’t in the position to take care of a child, and Michaela’s mother arranged an anonymous adoption. Michaela says that’s often how it works now. Anna says it’s vital she find the family. It’s possible her child inherited a genetic illness that manifests between the ages of thirty and fifty. Can Michaela help?

Maxie looks around Peter’s room, and says she thought there was no damage from the earthquake. He tells her that his clothes just blew out of the drawers; obviously, he’s not a neat freak. Maxie says neither was Nathan. Peter says maybe it’s a guy thing, but Maxie thinks maybe it’s a slob thing. He asks when she checked in, and she tells him a few nights ago. She can’t stay in the apartment without Nathan.

Carly tells Sonny that she gets why Michael is checking on Nelle, but doesn’t want him to send the wrong message. Sonny says she seemed nice to Nelle when he found them, but she says Nelle was scared when she thought the baby was in trouble. It’s nice to know she’s concerned about her child, but it doesn’t change anything; she’s seen Nelle’s true colors. She tells Sonny that Mike got lost again, making it twice in a matter of days. They have to deal with his father’s Alzheimer’s. They have to make a plan.

Jason tells Michael about the trailer collapsing. Michael asks what they did, and Jason says they found a way out. Michael wonders if it was as simple as that, and Jason remembers Sam telling him that she still loves him.

Sam tells Drew that Jason was at the Quartermaines. The roads were closed, and she asked for a ride on his bike. When she saw The Floating Rib was destroyed, she was scared when she couldn’t find him. He tells her he was trapped under a freezer door. She asks how that’s possible. He explains that they couldn’t find Oscar and Josslyn, and discovered they’d wandered off to be alone. By the time he and Kim found them, the earthquake had jammed the door, and they both had hypothermia. Josslyn recovered quickly, but not Oscar. When the aftershock hit, he was knocked unconscious and pinned under the freezer door. She asks how he got out, and he says, Franco and Dante. She didn’t think there was such a thing as karma, but Franco wouldn’t have been there if she and Jason hadn’t saved him.

Maxie knows should be handling it better. She’s a grown woman and a mother. Peter thinks she’s doing great. He saw what it was like going back to the apartment, and it’s beyond him how she even spent the night there. She says she slept on couch, and when that didn’t help, she cleared out Nathan’s stuff. She thought that would make it easier, but just made the rooms look emptier. She tells Peter it’s like the baby has a sixth sense. Whenever she’s in a downward spiral about Nathan, it gives her a kick. She was thinking about how unfair it is. The baby is carrying Faison’s genes, and Nathan would help her decide what to do. Does she really want to know if the baby is predestined to be sick when it’s older? All of the life-changing impossible decisions have to be made alone, and she doesn’t know what to do.

Michaela says her mother was known for extending her services, and Anna says she was kind. She didn’t push her when she didn’t want to hold the baby, and promised to find a good home. Andre asks if she knows any way to find out anything. Michaela tells him that because of the nature of her practice, she was afraid of discovery. It would have been indiscreet to keep records. She’s sorry, but she can’t help

Sonny asks Carly to wait a second, but she says it can’t wait. Mike was arrested. Sonny says it worked out. She says he was alone in middle of a natural disaster; this can’t go on. Sonny says it’s not his turf or home. He needs to get back to Brooklyn. Carly says he should stay there with them.

Nelle tells Monica that maybe Michael was delayed. Monica says he told her that he was stopping by to take Nelle home.

Michael tells Jason that he’s glad they made it, and Nelle and the baby are fine. He can’t change that Nelle is carrying his child, and doesn’t know if he can trust her again, but the thought of something happening to her scared hell out of him. He asks Jason what his take on Nelle is, and Jason says he barely knows her. Michael wants to know his opinion from what he’s seen and heard. He trusts Jason more than anyone.

Sam tells Drew that Franco had barely left the trailer when the aftershock happened. They were literally hanging off a cliff, and had to jump before the trailer exploded. Drew thinks she should be checked out, but she says she’s fine. She asks about him, and he says as long as she’s there, he’s good. It’s the first time he’s ever been grateful to Franco.

Maxie can’t fathom Nathan having anything wrong with him, and Peter says maybe he didn’t have it. She says there’s a 50% chance he didn’t, and could have been totally healthy. Maybe the other son is one who drew the short straw. Wouldn’t it be justice?

Anna says that she and Michaela’s mother formed a friendship. She was sweet and understood things. Maybe she mentioned Anna? She’d called her Tess, as in Tess of the d’Ubervilles. Maybe she knows that name.

Drew tells Sam he could only watch while Kim and Dante did CPR on Oscar. He felt guilty. He missed so much of his son’s life; he wants to make up for lost time. Sam hopes he gets his wish. He says all of his wishes are granted right now. He just needs one more thing – to get out of here. Monica walks in, and says that can be arranged.

Michael tells Jason that Nelle went beyond messed up. It didn’t have to be this way. If she hadn’t made the decisions she did, it would have made all the difference. Jason asks if she could go back, would she change what she did. Michael thinks so. She didn’t have an easy life. He knows his mom has issues with her, but she’s made enough mistakes to understand that people deserve second chances. Jason wonders why she can’t get there with Nelle, but says she has good instincts. If he were Michael, he’d trust them.

Carly tells Sonny that Mike can stay with them. They have plenty of room and can hire professional caregivers, and despite his relationship choices, Griff is a great doctor. Sonny says he’s not moving in. He’s from Brooklyn, and Sonny can put him in his own neighborhood; he’ll do whatever it takes. Carly says Mike is the only family he’s got. Sonny says he’s handling it, but Carly says he’s not. Sonny says the last time he checked, Mike wanted him back with Brenda, and she resented him for that. She says she’s not doing it for Mike; she’s doing it for him.

Nelle’s phone rings. She answers, then says, it’s not possible; it can’t be.

Monica says if Drew promises to take easy, he can go home. He says, in that case, he promises. Monica is thankful he’s okay, and proud of how he looked after Oscar, getting him and Josslyn out of danger. She tells Sam to take care of him, and he says they’re doing a good job taking care of each other.

Jason tells Michael about Hanna Scott, a girlfriend of Sonny’s who turned out to be a Fed. Everyone thought things were fine, but Carly zeroed in on it immediately. Sonny didn’t listen, so Carly trailed her. She ended up getting mugged, and her wedding rings were stolen. She was married to AJ at the time, but Jason replaced them for her. Michael says it makes sense now why she still has them. They remind her of Jason. Jason says she was relentless, and eventually was proven right. Michael asks if Jason thinks he should trust Carly’s instincts, but Jason says, no; he should trust his own, and like Carly, don’t let anyone talk him out of them.

Carly understands that Sonny doesn’t want to watch Mike deteriorate, and become a shell of himself. Sonny doesn’t know if he can do it, but Carly says he can, and she’ll be next to him. He can change his mind in six months, but there will be less of Mike to spend time with. She suggests he do it now, while he still can. Sonny say he’s scared. Carly says she knows, but not to let fear trick him into pushing Mike away. It’s going to hurt no matter what, but he has the opportunity to come away with something positive. He can make peace while Mike is still himself. She wants that for both of them, and knows he wants it too.

Mike comes downstairs, and asks if the phones are working. He called Rita, but she said she’d moved back in with her sister. He must have heard wrong. Sonny looks at Carly.

Peter tells Maxie that he did some research, and she can have the test between the 16h and 18th week of pregnancy.

Here’s where my dear friend George Stephanopoulos interrupts, so I can be told about the steel and aluminum tariffs. Because it can’t wait twenty minutes. I hunt down the rest of the show online.

Peter says he knows Maxie was worried, and wanted to help. Maxie isn’t sure she wants to know. He asks when she’s due, and she tells him June 17th. He says the timing is perfect. She says the baby is going to be a Gemini. Peter says he is too – his birthday is on June 13th.

Michaela asks Anna what the baby’s date of birth was, and she says June 13th. What a coincidence! Michaela tells Anna that her mother lit a candle every year on that date, and said a prayer for the baby. Anna asks why. Michaela says years later, her mother ran into the family, and they’d had to let the baby go. She questioned them about it, but they deflected, and ran off. She never saw them again. She suffered greatly over it because she felt responsible. Andre says it wasn’t her fault, and it isn’t Anna’s either. Anna is a survivor, and so is her daughter. Michaela says Anna didn’t have a daughter. Her mother had said she had a perfect little son.

Peter asks Maxie if it Isn’t better to know everything and be prepared. She wonders how it’s his business, and he apologizes for overstepping. She says, no, she’s sorry. She lost her edit button when Nathan died, and wasn’t tactful to begin with. He says she’s entitled to her feelings, and she says he’s entitled to his opinion. Peter says they’re colleagues, and she has the right to keep things to herself. Maxie says he was with her when Nathan died, and they’re past being acquaintances. Nathan would want her to get tested. He was concerned to point of being obsessive about the baby’s health, and she told him the baby would be fine. Look how wrong she was. Peter tells her somehow, someday, everything will be fine.

Anna tells Michaela that she was led to believe she had a girl. Maybe someone else gave birth on the same date. Andrew says without documentation, they don’t know anything, and asks Michaela if there’s anything else she can tell them. Anna says there’s a 50% chance of her daughter getting the disease, and she should know. Michaela tells them to wait. She has something that might help. She leaves, and Andrew asks if Anna is sure she had a daughter. Anna says she didn’t ask; she didn’t want to know. Valentin is the one who told her, but what could he possibly gain by lying? Andre says for some reason, he doesn’t want her to find her son.

Carly tells Mike she’s sorry, but he heard right. Rita left him. Mike says they were together five years, and had a great thing going; why leave? Carly says she came there looking for him, and she had to tell her about him being sick. Mike says she had no right, but Sonny says Rita backed her into a corner; she had no choice. Carly says when Rita found out, she made it clear she hadn’t signed on for that. Mike says, for him? Carly says, to see him through an illness like that. Sonny says he’s sorry, and Mike starts to cry. This dude is tearing my heart out every other day. Mike asks what he’s supposed to do now, and Sonny says this is what they’re going to do, and it’s going to be okay.

Nelle dries her tears. Monica comes in, and asks what’s wrong. Nelle tells her the earthquake destroyed her apartment building. She’s homeless.

Michael tells Jason that he’s going to see Nelle; he’s the only person she has. He thinks Jason is right about his mom’s perspective. She’s usually right about people in general, but especially about the two of them. She thinks Jason and Sam belong together. Maybe she’s on to something. Michael moves along, and Jason takes the dog tag out of his pocket and looks at it.

Sam asks if Drew is ready to go home. He says he’s always ready.

Jason wants to leave the dog tag at the nurses’ station for Sam. He says her husband was admitted to the hospital. Drew is suddenly there, and says Jason got lucky. He can give it to her himself. He asks what it is.

Anna tells Andre that she thought she and Valentin had reached truce of some sort. What possible reason would he have to lie? Andre says maybe it’s as simple as him knowing something she doesn’t. Anna hopes Michaela is wrong. She needs to believe her daughter is in good hands; a happy and well-adjusted adult, who didn’t inherit anything from Faison. Andre prays she’s right. Michaela wasn’t exactly forthcoming, and he’s not entirely sure they can trust her.

Michaela returns, saying she wasn’t sure she could trust Anna at first, but her mother did keep records. Perhaps this will help Anna find what she’s looking for. She gives Anna an envelope. She takes Anna’s hand and wishes her good luck. Anna thanks her, and she leaves. Anna opens the envelope. She says it’s her baby. It doesn’t just have the date he was born, but the year and the time. She has a son.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s going to do it. She’s going to have the baby tested. Peter says from the information he got, she should have someone go with her. She asks if that’s to peel her off floor, and he says or help celebrate. He suggests Nina, but Maxie hasn’t told her. Peter asks what about her mom? Maxie says her mom is amazing, but she’ll only make her more nervous. Peter asks her to tell him if he’s overstepping, but he’d be more than happy to go; someone to be there when she takes it in. She says she’d like that.

Anna looks at the baby’s footprints on the paper.

Sonny tells Mike he doesn’t have to go back. He should stay with them, and spend some time with his grandchildren. Carly says soon there will be a great-grandchild. He can share memories and laughs; let them take care of him.

Michael asks Nelle if she’s okay, and she tells him it was a false alarm; he’s the one who was actually hurt. He says he’s fine; his head is still attached. She thanks him for picking her up  and getting her home. He says he can help her clean up, but she says that won’t be necessary. She has no home to go to. She’s surprised he wasn’t notified that the building was destroyed. He says he’s sorry, but she says the story has a happy ending. She’s moving in with the Quartermaines. His grandmother wouldn’t take no for an answer. Monica says she’s invited Nelle to live with them. Nelle hugs Michael.

Sam tells Drew it’s Danny’s dog tag that he ordered for Annabelle II. Jason says in all the craziness, it ended up in his pocket. He’s glad Drew is okay, and Drew says, same to him. Jason leaves, and Drew asks Sam if everything is okay. Sam says when they get home, they need to talk.

Tomorrow, Jason wants to draw out Henrik. Sonny tells Mike he’s not himself, and Franco confronts Scotty.

🔪 Since I had to do some work for my paying job, I missed most of the finale for Top Chef. However, I managed to catch the end, and Last Chance Kitchen Joe won the honors. It just goes to show you, never give up.

⏰ I did catch a late-night mini marathon of Don’t Be Tardy, which I haven’t seen in a while. While I’m not crazy about Kim Zolciak, and her daughters seem dumb as rocks, I do like this show. I love her chef, Tracey, who is a total looney-tune, and the tone isn’t mean-spirited. Not nearly as good as Sweet Home Oklahoma (when’s that show coming back?), but a nice break from housewives, summer houses, and real estate.

SmileyConfusedMA36106495-0001 Elizabeth Hurley was a guest on tonight’s Watch What Happens Live, and seemed to have spilled some spicy tea. Apparently, she’s close friends with Victoria Beckham (who I love), and said that another Spice Girls reunion was a go. Maybe I’m behind, but last I read, it was a no. I have mad love for The Spices, and have seen them twice. Yeah, I know, but I love all genres of music (well, maybe not that experimental John Cage type stuff), and I think they arrived at a time when they were needed. They were the bubblegum of the 90s, and a sigh of relief after the angst of Kurt Cobain’s death. I saw them both times in 2008, during their last reunion tour. Back in the day, I went to a lot of concerts, but like Broadway, ticket prices have skyrocketed. Hell, movies are borderline unaffordable. Thank God there’s a dollar store in the mall, because I’m not taking out a second mortgage to buy a box of M&Ms. But as usual, I digress. I try to choose wisely who picks my entertainment budget pocket, and they didn’t disappoint. I felt like I got my money’s worth. Lots of costume changes, big sets, special f/x, and all the songs. And the girls really are good singers too, despite so many people poking fun at them. I’m sure they cry all the way to the bank. I’ve also enjoyed many of their solo efforts. Geri Halliwell is especially impressive. And dare I say it? IMO, Mel C does a better rendition of Like a Prayer than Madonna.

😩 I’m seriously growing weary of moments, movements, and international anything days.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Things are shaking again in Port Charles. Jason tells Sam not to move.

Ned is at the station on the phone. It’s chaos. He asks for FEMA to get involved; he needs federal assistance. Good luck with that. He says he’s waiting ten minutes, and then he’s calling the White House. Alexis tells him that she hasn’t heard from either of her daughters since the quake.

Molly is brought into the hospital. She was hit by falling debris, and lost consciousness on the way there. Finn calls for a bunch of medical stuff. He tells Julian and TJ to wait outside.

Drew asks if Kim is all right. She’s okay, but Oscar not so much. His breathing is shallow again. Dante yells for Drew, but sees him smushed underneath the freezer door.

Sam looks through a hole in the floor, and tells Jason there’s nothing down there. He says if it shifts again, they could fall. She asks what they’re going to do, and he says he’s working on it.

Franco and Elizabeth go to the hospital. She asks him to check on the boys. Josslyn talks to TJ about Oscar. TJ says Kim is a doctor. He’s sure she’s taking great care of him, and Josslyn says he’ll be okay, and so will Molly. Amy tells TJ that he can come in.

Finn says Molly has a broken rib, but no internal bleeding. TJ is welcome to stay with her; she should be waking up any time now. He sits by the bed and takes her hand. He tells her that she’s going to be all right, but he needs a favor. He wants her to wake up and tell him herself

Ned says they’re coordinating the evacuation centers. Alexis asks if Jordan has heard from Molly and TJ, but she hasn’t. Alexis tells Ned that they were on Charles Street. Finn calls Alexis to tell her that Molly is at the hospital and should be fine. She asks about TJ, and Finn says he’s fine too. Alexis lets Ned know that Molly is stable, and asks him to tell Jordan that TJ is okay. An officer confers with Jordan. Ned tells her about TJ, and gets a call from emergency services.

Molly opens her eyes. TJ tells her that she has a broken rib, but Finn says she’ll be fine. She asks him to take her oxygen mask off. He says he shouldn’t, and she tells him that he can put it back after he kisses her. Done and done.

Dante shoves everything aside. Kim asks what happened. Dante tells her that Drew is trapped under a door, but he can’t tell how badly Drew is hurt. He needs help lifting the door, but Kim can’t leave Oscar; she doesn’t like the way he’s breathing. Dante throws Oscar over his shoulder, and says, let’s go. Kim follows.

Jason cautiously gets up. He tells Sam the doorway is clear. If she grabs his hand, he can pull her out. The trailer starts to rock, and Jason tells her to stay close to the ground and go slow. It rocks again, and Sam says if she moves anymore, it will go. She tells Jason to jump out; the trailer will protect her. He says, no, it won’t, and tells her keep going. Focus on him. She reaches out.

Finn tells Alexis to go right in, and that Molly will be fine. Molly tells Alexis that TJ saved her, but he says it wasn’t just him.

Julian asks Josslyn if there’s any word on Molly, and she says TJ is with her. He asks why she’s there alone, and she tells him that she’s not. Her mom is upstairs with Michael, and she’s waiting for Oscar. Julian asks if he’s okay, but she doesn’t know.

Olivia-Q shows up at the station, and asks Ned how it’s going. He tells her that he’s coordinating the state and federal services. He was just informed of a water main break, and there are people unaccounted for. Olivia asks how this happened, but that’s what he’d like to know.

Julian asks if Franco isn’t overdressed, and Franco tells him a natural disaster doesn’t care what your plans are. Dante brings in Oscar. Josslyn runs to him, but Kim tells her to stand back. She says Oscar will be fine, but his father isn’t.

Jason says he knows Sam can do this. He tells her don’t quit and never panic. The trailer rocks, and she slides back. She says she’s panicking. Jason holds out his hand, and says she can do it. He grasps her hand, and says he’s got her. Love twinkles out of her eyes, and I roll mine. He grabs her as the floor falls out.

Ned says the last earthquake there was in 1991, and it was a once in a ten-thousand-year event. Earthquakes don’t happen there, and definitely not every twenty-five years. Why this one? Jim shows up, saying his equipment is at their disposal. Jordan says Charles Street sustained the most damage, and Jim says it’s on a landfill and not stable. Jordan says he didn’t waste any time digging, and he asks what she’s implying. She says she’s just stating facts. He started digging immediately after the election. Jim says he has all the proper permits, and she says she doesn’t think the Faultline cares about permits. Olivia says it takes deeper digging to reach a Faultline; like if you’re digging for natural gas – she saw it on PBS. Jim offers to help in any way he can, and leaves the station. Ned tells Jordan that he gets she doesn’t like Jim, but now is not the time. The city is in chaos and people are hurting. They have to pull together as a community, and figure out who to blame later.

Dante and Franco go back to The Floating Rib. Dante says Drew is still breathing, and his pulse is steady. Franco says, good; that means they can wait. Dante is like, no it doesn’t. Franco says he gets it. He was pinned under a file cabinet for a couple of hours, but Drew will be mad if they screw it up and he’s paralyzed. A light falls from the ceiling, and Dante says if they wait any longer, and the building collapses, he’ll be dead.

Finn tells Kim that Oscar is going to be okay, but Kim says she wants him admitted for observation. Amy puts him on the list. Kim sits next to his bed, and says he did good. He’s strong and brave, and hung in there. He says his dad saved him.

Franco and Dante can’t get the door to budge. Franco thinks they should call the fire department, but Dante doesn’t think they have time. They talk about what they can use for leverage.

Jason and Sam jump out of the trailer door in slow motion.

Kim tells Oscar that all his life, she said she was the only parent he needed. She wonders if she made the wrong choice. His father could have been there all along. Josslyn comes in. She says Amy told her that he would be all right, but she wanted to see for herself. Kim tells her to stay, and gives her the seat, saying she’ll be back in a few minutes. Josslyn tells Oscar that she spent hours wanting to be with him, and now that she is, she doesn’t know what to say. The only reason he’s there is because he gave her his jacket, and it must have kept her warm enough, but at his expense. She thanks him for saving her. She hopes there isn’t a next time, but if there is, she’ll save him right back. Kim listens, and tears up. She walks away, and Julian follows her.

Franco uses his own legs as leverage. Dante pulls Drew out, but Franco is stuck.

Jim sees Elizabeth, and says he guesses she didn’t make it down the aisle. She says there was an earthquake, and things didn’t go as planned. He hopes he didn’t overstep, but they seemed to make each other happy. Elizabeth says they do. She and Franco are still getting married. They just need to pick a new date.

TJ tells Alexis that they were in front of their old building when the earthquake hit. They ran for cover, but Molly got pinned under an awning that fell. Julian showed up, and helped move the awning and carry her to the hospital. He doesn’t think she would have made it without Julian. Molly nods in agreement.

Kim cries in the locker room. Julian asks if she’s okay. She says she’s getting there. Oscar was treated for hypothermia, but he’ll be okay. Julian asks if those are tears of relief, and she says, mostly. Drew was trapped during the aftershock, and they had to leave with Oscar. Rescuers are getting him, but the building is unstable.

Dante asks Franco to hand him the crowbar. Franco is like, are you kidding? but Dante says he can’t hold the door and reach it at the same time. Franco manages to get it, and Dante props the door up with it. They both slide out before it falls.

Something explodes near Jason and Sam.

Franco and Dante carry Drew out.

Jason asks if Sam is okay. She thinks so. They look longingly at each other.

Drew is brought to the hospital. Finn says he has multiple contusions, and possible internal injuries. There’s no cubicle, so Finn examines him in the hallway. Dante tells them he was trapped under a freezer door. Finn asks how they got him out, and Franco says, physics. Drew asks about Oscar.

Josslyn tells Oscar it’s weird how things she thought were important don’t matter. She thought she would literally die if she didn’t wear that dress to the dance, and it got ruined by asshat Troy. She thought that was a tragedy, but a tragedy is an earthquake. A tragedy is being stuck in a freezer. A tragedy is after all this, if he’s not okay. Oscar smiles and opens his eyes. She tells him that she’ll get a doctor, but he asks her not to leave.

Kim tells Julian that she has to pull it together; she can’t stop shaking. Julian holds her, saying everything will be okay. She says he doesn’t know that, but he says they’ll hope for the best. Alexis comes in, and Kim goes back to Oscar. Alexis says not that it’s her business, but is Kim all right? Julian says Oscar was injured, but he’ll be okay. He asks about Molly, and Alexis says she’s doing very well, thanks to him. He says it’s no big deal, but Alexis says TJ claimed he couldn’t have gotten her out without Julian’s help. She thanks him. He asks if there’s something else, and she says Molly asked to see him.

Ned and Jordan give a televised speech. Like people must be glued to their battery-run TVs. He says in accordance with the state and federal government, the governor has declared a state of emergency. Jordan says there’s a mandatory evacuation for Charles Street, and the adjacent neighborhoods. Ned lists the places set up for triage, and says if a missing person needs to be reported, there will be coordinators at the sites. It’s a difficult time, but they’re coming together and helping each other, and will continue to do so in the days ahead.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he feels floaty and relaxed. Kim comes in, and Oscar says sorry he scared her. She says she can’t yell at him for being a hero, but don’t do it again. He asks about Drew, and Amy comes in, saying his dad is asking about him. Kim tells them that Drew is by the nurses’ station, waiting for a room. He has some serious bruising, but should be fine. Oscar says Drew can have his bed, but Amy says that’s up to the doctor, and he needs to stay there. Kim leaves to check on Drew.

Franco tells Elizabeth that you had to be there. A door fell on Drew, and he and Dante got underneath it to lift it off. Dante gets a call, and thanks Franco. Franco is like, that just happened; Dante just thanked him. Elizabeth says he saved Drew’s life. Franco says he needs a shower, and feel free to join him. Elizabeth says don’t tempt her

Kim tells Drew that Oscar is fine, and asked her to check on him.

Sam needs to tell Jason something. She knew it was him at the pier and in her hospital room. She couldn’t say anything because couldn’t hurt him. Jason says it’s okay. Sam says every day, she had to tell herself the nightmare is over; he’s alive. She told him to keep his distance, but she didn’t mean it. Every day she was hoping to run into him, so she could hear his voice or see his eyes. She’s not supposed to say this, but she doesn’t care. She never stopped loving him.

Molly thanks Julian for saving TJ. He’s glad he was there, and she says, so is she. Alexis looks hopeful.

Franco showers. Elizabeth joins him.

Josslyn tells Oscar that when it’s over, she’ll have to apologize to the cop who evacuated her from The Floating Rib. She wanted to stay, but he dragged her away. The whole way there, she threatened to sue him. She told him the PCPD has a bias against her family, which is true, and that they have the best lawyer, which is also true. Oscar says she sounds fierce, and she says she was total bitch. He’s flattered that she was fighting to stay with him, and she says she’ll always fight for that.

Kim tells Drew that Oscar will be fine. She can’t believe he trapped himself in the freezer, and Drew says love makes you do stupid things. She says it’s easier in San Diego. If you want to kiss a girl, you can just take her for a walk on the beach. She tells him that she’s sorry she was unfair to him and Oscar. She didn’t give him a chance to be a father. He says he might not agree with some of her choices, but he knows she loves Oscar, and he’s a great kid. He has a chance to know him now, and he’s grateful. She says she is too. If it hadn’t been for him… He saved Oscar’s life. Drew says they both did.

Jason takes Sam’s hand, and says he loves her. He didn’t say it until now because he didn’t want to pressure her. Sam says she made such a mess of the whole situation, but Jason says none of them did this. It was done to them, and there’s no easy or clean way out. No matter what, he knows she loves him and he loves her. If that’s all it is, it’s enough.

Tomorrow, Nelle says it’s not possible, Sam tells Drew she was with Jason, and Carly tells Sonny that he has to deal with his father’s Alzheimer’s.

If Loving You is Wrong

Brad tells Alex that she told him Dr. Raston switched the DNA tests. She lied to him again. Alex is like, homina-homina, and Dr. Raston says to tell the truth; she didn’t say it and she didn’t do it. Alex admits she lied. She just wanted Brad to calm down. He tells her to stay away from him. He’s done.

Randal says he’s confused. Did she do it or not do it? Dr. Raston says she didn’t do anything. Randal says he and his lawyer are going to burn some asses. He’s going to sue her. Dr. Raston wisely leaves. Randal tells Alex he has a degree; he’s a master in psychological warfare. He tells her to give up. She says she can’t beat him at anything, and he’s glad she finally sees that. He asks if the baby is his, and Alex says of course; he looks just like him. Can we please name the baby before he’s in kindergarten? Randal asks why lie, and Alex says she already said she’s sorry. He asks if Marcie’s baby is his. Alex says yes, and he asks how she knows. She tells him to check the dates. She points out where Marcie is, and tells him to go cause hell for someone else. She’s also done. He tells her skedaddle back home – really, he used that word – and he’ll meet her in the shed later. Don’t keep him waiting. He has someone else waiting for him.

Randal slips into Marcie’s room. She tells him that he needs to leave. He says he needs to check on his wife. He asks what’s wrong? Her body can’t handle the stress? She starts breathing heavy, and he asks why she miscarries all these babies; what’s wrong with her body? She tells him to leave. He says he’s there to encourage her. She’s going to have this one, and he’ll be healthy and happy. He asks what they’re naming him, and she says, Brad. He tells her it’s his, and they’re naming him Randal. Marcie insists it’s not his. Randal says, he’s mine. She wants him to leave, and he says we can’t always get what we want. Thanks for the Rolling Stones earworm, Randal. He says he finally got his child though. Marcie tells him it’s not his baby, and he says that’s not what he heard from Alex. She says they both know how honest Alex is, but he says he did some counting, and figured out the baby is his. He’s been having wonderful dreams abut his babies being raised by Daddy Randal. Marcie tells him to keep on dreaming. He says he’s stopping by Larry’s office, and Marcie says that he signed the papers; let her go. Randal says he didn’t sign them; who told her that? She says she saw them, and tells him get out. The light bulb comes on over Randal’s head, and he remembers signing something else for Larry. Too late to argue with Larry now.

Lushion goes into the interrogation room, and asks Kelly how the visit with Justice was. She says, too short, and he asks if she’s okay. She doesn’t know how she feels. He tells her to hang on, and she asks for how long? He says as long as it takes. Kelly says her son deserves better than her, and Lushion tells her not to talk like that. She starts crying, and says she can still see Travis and smell his blood. Lushion tells her to stop talking. He has someone who wants to see her. Pull it together.

Natalie – who has a big hand in this whole mess – comes in, and asks how Kelly is. She says Kelly doesn’t look so good, and Kelly still has enough of a sense of humor to say, thanks. Natalie says that’s not what she meant; she doesn’t look like herself. Her hair is still totally fabulous though. Kelly says she’s floating above, like she’s not there. She gives Natalie a paper, saying it’s a thank you letter. Natalie says no thanks necessary, but Kelly says she’s been a good friend and she’s grateful for her taking Justice. She tells Natalie to wait until later to read it. Lushion comes back, and Kelly thanks him. He says he’s going to get her out. Kelly doesn’t know how. Carl showed her what the DA has, and it’s bad. Lushion says she’ll get out, but she says she did it; she killed him. He tells her that he needs her to stop talking in there. Kelly wants to lie down, and Natalie promises to be back. Kelly says she loves them both, and Natalie says they love her too. Lushion walks out with Natalie, saying he’ll e back in a second.

Natalie tells Lushion maybe it wasn’t a good idea for Justice to see Kelly just yet. She thinks they should keep an eye on her, and Lushion says she’s monitored 24/7. He goes back to work, and Esperanza asks how Natalie’s visit was. Natalie says she’s worried, and asks if Esperanza is okay. She says she’s fine, but Natalie doesn’t buy it. Esperanza says she feels silly talking about it, but she’s been calling Steven and he’s not picking up. Natalie asks, didn’t she tell him that she didn’t want to talk to him? Esperanza admits she told him it was over, but he should still answer his calls; she thinks it’s rude. Natalie asks if they’re doing this when Kelly has such problems. Esperanza is afraid Eddie threatened Steven. Natalie tells her to move on. I’m distracted by Esperanza’s strange white highlights.

Brad comes back to Marcie’s room, and Marcie thanks him for staying. He was hoping Randal didn’t find her. She says Alex told him she was there, and that the baby is his. Brad says he’s done; he’s leaving and not going back. She lied about the doctor. He gave her a chance to tell the truth, and she lied again. He’s coming back to their place if she doesn’t mind. She says, of course not, and he asks if her boyfriend Ian will be okay with it. She says he’s not her boyfriend, and Brad says he seems protective and obviously likes her. Marcie wonders if he likes her enough to commit a crime. Brad asks if she wants him to murder Randal, but she says he got the divorce papers signed. That’s not like Randal. Brad says at least she’s divorced. She says if it’s not true, Randal will just be madder and worse to deal with. Marcie suddenly cramps, and tells Brad to get the doctor.

Esperanza needs to talk to Lushion. She’s genuinely concerned for Steven. Eddie knows what time he left her house. Lushion asks if she thinks Eddie did something. She doesn’t know, but they both know Eddie. Lushion says Steven can take care of himself, and he doesn’t think Eddie would do something. Esperanza says Steven isn’t answering his phone. Lushion says if he calls and Steven answers, she’ll feel some kind of way, but she insists she won’t. Lushion calls Steven, who picks up. He says he’s just seeing what Steven is up to, and Steven says he’s playing golf. Steven asks what’s going on, and Lushion says he’s got to go. Steven knows something is up, and then says, she’s listening, isn’t she? Lushion says, goodbye. Esperanza says he played the game, and she fell for it. She wonders if they talked about it, and breezes out, thanking Lushion. He says, this is why people should not have work flings.

Randal busts into Ian’s office, asking, where is he? Ian says he’s still out, and Randal asks, out where? Ian offers Randal a seat, and Randal asks if he looks like he’s in the mood for a damn seat. The SOB tricked him. He came to the house, had him sign something, and now the divorce papers are signed. Ian says that would be unethical; Larry wouldn’t do something like that. Randal says he did it, and now he’s divorced. Ian asks if that’s a bad thing, and Randal says, damn right. Ian asks, how so? and Randal says it’s not about divorce; it’s about revenge. He tells Ian the papers were filed a few hours ago, and Ian says maybe it’s for the best. He’s a smart, attractive guy. He could find another woman. Randal tells him to go to hell, and tell Larry to call him or he’ll be back, and he won’t be alone. He has friends everywhere. Ian says threats don’t go over too well around there, and Randal says he can back it up. Ian says he’ll be waiting. Randal messes with Ian’s tie before he leaves, because he’s fourteen.

Lushion goes to the box truck. He bangs on it, and asks if anyone is in there. He gets silence, and opens it, finding dead Larry. He calls for an ambulance – stat – and says, damn you, Eddie.

Alex arrives home, and calls Esperanza before she goes in. Esperanza asks what’s wrong, and Alex says she just needed to talk. She says she’s tired. What if she just gives in; gives him what he wants. Esperanza asks if she’s talking about custody of the baby, but Alex says that will never happen. Esperanza isn’t following, and Alex says she’s rambling. She’ll call back later.

In the hallway, Brad asks how Marcie is, and Dr. Raston says, it’s bad news; she lost the baby. Brad says it’s going to devastate her. He’d thought she was doing well. The doctor says the test they were waiting on was the one that told them they were trouble, but it happened before the results came back. Brad thanks her, and she says she’s sorry. She’s sorry about everything. Brad says, onward and upward. What is he? A Boy Scout? Dr. Raston thinks he should be there when she tells Marcie, and he says he’ll stay.

When they walk into Marcie’s room, she says she knows that look. Dr. Raston says she’s sorry; Marcie lost the baby. Marcie wants to go home, but the doctor says they need to keep her there. Marcie says Randal stressed her out; he wanted her dead. She repeats that she wants to go home. Brad says he’ll stay for a while, but she wants to be alone. When she’s by herself, Marcie bawls her eyes out.

At the hospital, Eddie tells Lushion he’d better have a good reason for calling him there. Lushion tells Eddie that they found him; take a look. It’s Larry, and he’s not so dead. Eddie says, damn, and Lushion says he’s awake and talking. He tells Eddie that kidnapping is a federal offense, and Eddie says he had nothing to do with it. Lushion says Larry told him, and wants Eddie in the room. Lushion also wants Eddie off his case, and Eddie says, too bad. He’s DEA.

Steven asks Larry what happened, and Eddie asks what happened in the truck? Steven asks how he knew Larry was in a truck, and Eddie says, lucky guess. Larry says he was playing sex games with a few people, and things got out of hand. Steven says, he wasn’t kidnapped? and Larry says, no, he wasn’t. Lushion gives Eddie a look, and Steven says they have no business here. Larry says, sorry about that, and asks to speak with Eddie for a moment.

Eddie asks how Larry is feeling. Larry tells him that he’s going to get even. Eddie says Larry started it, and Larry says Eddie went too far. Eddie says, no, he did. Larry says, okay, playa. He’ll be waiting; it’s coming. I’ll be looking forward to that.

When Eddie comes out, Lushion asks if he has something tell them. Eddie says to pop some popcorn and keep watching the Eddie show. He’s such a nut.

Randal pulls into his driveway. Alex walks over, and heads to the backyard. Randal asks where she’s going. Brad sees them, and keeps on driving. Randal follows Alex to the infamous shed, and tells her to get out. She closes the door. She tells him that she’s tired, and he says the weak are always tired. She says she is weak, and tired. He tells her get out, but she says he doesn’t mean that because he still loves her. He says she’s so wrong, and she asks why all the fire and passion? She’s tired of seeing him go through it, and tired of going through it herself. She’s just asking him one last time to please be done. Randal says she started it, and Alex says she knows it, but it doesn’t matter now. He tells her that she never apologized and meant it. She says she’s sorry for everything she’s ever done to him. She knows that sometimes he can be a real SOB, but she’s apologizing and hopes he can forgive her.

He says sometimes he doesn’t want to do it anymore either, and she says, then why? He says he thinks about the good times, and how much he loved her. Then he thinks about her and Brad. She tells him to hush. She knows, but it’s over; it’s done. They have a child to think about. She’ll let him see the baby; she’ll get him right now. Then they can really work on healing their friendships and families, and move forward. They can work through this.

Randal tells her to take her clothes off. Alex says that’s not why she came here. They’re not doing this right now. They have to fix this; that’s what’s important. She begs him, but he sinks down in front of her and starts pulling at her clothes. She asks if she’s smelling gasoline. Randal opens the door a crack, and smoke pours in. He can’t get the door open any further, and they start yelling. We see a crowbar keeping the door handles shut, and fire all around the place.

Natalie is sweeping up at the house. She sees her bag on the couch, and takes out the letter. She reads it, and grabs her phone. She calls Lushion. She tells him to check on Kelly. It’s a suicide note. Lushion runs to Kelly’s cell, and we see her feet hanging. He yells for help, as he tries to get her down. Let’s all say it together: Poor Lushion!

This was the finale, so no preview. They promised three huge surprises, and I guess we got them. Larry is alive, Randal and Alex might get burned alive, and Kelly might no longer be alive. We also had a couple of minor surprises. Steven was fine and playing golf, and Larry didn’t squeal on Eddie. I can’t wait to see what he has planned though.

Thanks to Tyler Perry for another great season of temptation!

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Kim gets into the freezer. Josslyn and Oscar are passed out. Kim tells Drew they have to get them out of there.

Carly can’t believe she’s stuck with Nelle. Nelle says she needs to know if the father of her baby is okay. Carly asks if she can’t call him Michael. Does she have to keep reminding her? Nelle says, if anything happened – but Carly interrupts, saying everyone is alive and well; they have to be. Because Carly says so.

Griff asks Michael if he lost consciousness. Michael says he’s been in and out. Griff tells him to follow his finger. He wants to do a CT scan. Sonny tells Michael that he knows he has a hard head, but he needs to be checked out. Michael says he needs to find out about Nelle and the baby.

Elizabeth talks to Franco, saying wherever he is, she’s right here. She feels in her heart that he’s doing everything he can to get back.

Franco asks if the weird old guy is still there. He gets silence, and yells for help.

Jason suggests Mike head over to the evacuation center, but he says he promised to help a guy who’s trapped. Jason tells him relax, and asks who and where?

Kim covers the kids. Josslyn comes to. Kim tells Drew to get her moving, while she works on warming up Oscar. Josslyn wonders why Oscar’s not waking up.

Michael says he’s okay, but Amy is like, get in the wheelchair.

Nelle tells Carly that Michael will come looking for her. Carly is sure he’s concerned about the baby, and Nelle says she hates it that he cares about her. Carly says he tolerates her, but does it in a nice way. Nelle says they share a child, and it’s a bond no one can break, not even her. Carly says one time she was trapped in an elevator in a burning building with Alexis, who she hated at the time. It was torture, but she never thought she’d miss those days. Nelle goes to look for bottled water, and doubles over. Carly asks what game she’s playing.

Mike says a guy needed his help. Jason tells Sam to take Mike to the evacuation center, and he’ll look around. Sam asks Mike to help her get back. Mike says he was on Post Street, but it looks different. Jason asks if that’s where he left the man, but Mike isn’t sure. He says he’ll help look, but Jason tells him to help Sam.

Elizabeth looks at the damage, and says, talk about a wedding disaster. Then again, they don’t lead predictable lives.

Franco bangs on the cabinet, and says, this sucks. He says the old man forgot. He hears someone, and asks what took so long, but it’s Jason.

Kim continues to work on Oscar. She asks Drew to get something to elevate his legs. Chase shows up, and tells them to evacuate. Kim says the kids are suffering from hypothermia, and they need an ambulance. Chase says he can call, but doesn’t know how long it will take them to get there. Drew tells him to take Josslyn, even though she doesn’t want to leave. Drew and Kim keep trying to to warm Oscar.

Nelle thinks she felt a contraction, and says it’s too soon. Carly tells her nice try. Nelle thinks something is wrong. Carly tells her sit, and asks how painful they are. Nelle says, painful, and Carly asks if they’re unpredictable. Nelle doesn’t know, she’s only had four. Carly says, irregular or regular, and Nelle tells her, irregular. She asks if she’s going into labor.

Mike and Sam stop at the church. Mike needs to stop and think. They see Elizabeth, and Sam asks if she’s okay. She says she’s waiting for Franco. Sam asks if he left her at the altar, but she doesn’t know where he is. She asks if it’s bad, and Sam tells her between there and Post Street is pretty bad. Mike remembers Elizabeth. Sam says they should get to the evacuation center, and Mike calls her sweet for looking after him when she should be with Jason. Elizabeth says she’ll watch out for Mike, and Sam leaves. Mike asks Elizabeth how Lucky is, and if he still plays guitar.

Jason acts like an a-hole, and just looks at Franco. Jason thought he was getting married, and Franco says he was on the way, but thought he should let a file cabinet fall on him first. He asks why Jason is there, and where’s the old man? He knows Jason hates him, and Jason says hate doesn’t begin to cover it. Franco says he needs to be somewhere. Jason is a man of honor. He’s trapped and helpless, and Jason can’t leave him. It’s against his code. Jason thinks this over.

Kim loses Oscar’s pulse.

At the hospital, Josslyn is annoyed with Chase, saying he didn’t need to walk her. He says they’ll send the earliest available ambulance for Oscar, but she says that could be hours. She sees Sonny, who asks if she’s okay. She explains what happened, and tells him this jerk dragged her away. Chase says she needs to be checked for hypothermia. Sonny tells Josslyn that Oscar is in good hands, but she says she wanted to be with him. It sounds dumb, but maybe he could sense it if she was there. Sonny says it’s not dumb, and asks Amy to check her for hypothermia. Josslyn tells Amy she was locked in a freezer; long story. Sonny asks Griff how Michael is doing, and Griff says he won’t stop asking about Nelle and the baby. Josslyn tells them that Nelle was working late at the gallery. Sonny says he’ll go, and if the doctor says it’s okay, Josslyn can sit with Michael.

Carly gives Nelle a bottle of water, and tells her to take small sips. She asks when was the last time Nelle had any, and tells her that she could be dehydrated. What she’s experiencing could be Braxton Hicks contractions, which are basically practice contractions. Nelle asks what if it’s real labor, and Carly tells her to stop stressing; it’s not good for the baby. Nelle says Michael is a good person, and wonders how he can possibly be hers. Carly says she asks herself that question every day; she’s just lucky. She tells Nelle to drink the water and try to breathe. Nelle asks if she means like in the childbirth classes she takes with Michael. Carly says yes, and tells her to stop talking, and just breathe.

Mike tells Elizabeth that she probably heard gossip about him having memory issues. He forgets things now and then, but he sure remembers her and Lucky. Elizabeth says they’re not married anymore. Mike asks, since when, and she says a long time. Before the earthquake, today was supposed to be her wedding day. Mike asks where the groom is, but Elizabeth doesn’t know. She says probably caught up in what’s happening. She asks Mike if he’s okay, and he says ever since the doctor said the name of what’s wrong, he’s been scared. Elizabeth asks what he’s scared of, and he says not just the forgetting. That’s bad enough, but it’s his son. He doesn’t want him looking at him the way he’s starting to. Elizabeth says Sonny loves him. He knows that, but tonight all he wanted was to go to a place he’d known before, where he felt safe, but it’s not there anymore. Dude, I feel your pain. A lot of my old NYC haunts are gone.

Franco asks if this is how it ends? Jason is just going to leave him. Jason says like he left Michael and Sam. Franco says he was different then, and Jason says so were they. Michael was seventeen, and trapped in prison when Franco sent someone to rape him. Franco says it wasn’t supposed to go that way, and Jason asks if it was supposed to go that way with Sam, how he made her think he’d raped her. Franco tells Jason that he sick. He literally had no control over what he was doing; the tumor was eating his brain. Jason says he’ll never forget what Franco did to them. He told Franco that he would pay. Now’s the time. Sam yells for Jason. She steps into the office, and sees Franco.

Jason says he’ll meet Sam outside. Franco tells her that Jason is going to be her hero and avenge her. She says she doesn’t want to be there. She doesn’t care about him – never did and never will – but she doesn’t need Jason to avenge her, and neither does Michael. They’ve made peace with it, and she doesn’t want to go backward and relive the hate. She doesn’t want that for him either. She’d rather see Franco live than keep the secret of how he died.

Mike tells Elizabeth that whatever the thing is he has, he sees faces he’s known like they’re old friends, then others he used to care about seem like strangers. Elizabeth can’t imagine how hard it is. Mike can’t either, and it’s happening to him. She says he’s lucky to have family that are happy to help him remember things. He says she was always a sweetheart, and impossible to forget. She says he’s still a charmer. He says, for now, but probably in time, he’ll forget her; at least that’s what they tell him. It’s a damn shame. He takes Elizabeth’s hand, and tells her not to go feeling sorry. He knows the score, and that’s half the battle. She guesses it is. I am so impressed with Max Gail. He brings tears to my eyes.

Carly asks Nelle about the contractions, and Nelle says they’ve stopped – for now. Maybe she was right. Carly explains that Braxton Hicks contractions were named after the doctor who first diagnosed them. Nelle says she still has a lot to learn about babies. Sonny calls out for Nelle, and Carly says they’re in there, but the door is stuck. He says he’ll find way in, and Carly says, they’re saved.

Chase sees Dante at the hospital. Josslyn comes out in what Amy calls “hospital couture,” since her clothes were damp from the freezer. She tells Josslyn that she can go home now, but she doesn’t want to go anywhere until she knows her brother and Oscar are okay. Amy explains to Dante that Michael is being treated for a concussion. Chase says that he found Josslyn and her boyfriend in a freezer, and Josslyn asks why he didn’t help Oscar. Chase says he’s on another assignment, and adds that Oscar’s mother is a doctor, and said he shouldn’t be moved. Dante says he’ll be back in an hour, and Josslyn tells him to make sure Oscar is okay.

Kim does CPR, saying she might need Drew’s help. Oscar begins to breathe, and has a pulse. They warm him up some more, and he opens his eyes. Kim tells him to stay with them.

Michael comes out. Josslyn hugs him, and asks how he’s feeling. He says he’ll live. Nelle and Carly come in with Sonny. Carly says they were stuck in the gallery; the earthquake messed up the security system, and they couldn’t open the door. Michael says he got a concussion, but he’s fine. Josslyn tells Carly about being trapped in the freezer, and how a cop came and dragged her out. She start to cry, saying she’s worried about Oscar. Carly holds her.

Kim tells Oscar that he gave her a scare. He says it was his stupid idea, and thanks her and Drew for finding them. Kim says they’re his parents, and they’ll always come for him.

Carly asks Amy to check Nelle. Nelle thinks she’s fine, but she’s concerned about Michael. Griff says Michael needs some quiet and rest. Michael says now that he knows Nelle and the baby are okay, he’s good. Carly suggests that Nelle go with Amy to be checked out. Sonny says everyone is accounted for except for Mike. The police are doing everything they can, but have a lot on their plate.

Mike asks Elizabeth who the lucky guy is, and she says the last person she expected to fall in love with, but he’s perfect for her. Mike says if he’s worthy of her love, he must be someone special. Chase shows up, and Mike tells him to go away. Mike says he knows him, and to leave him alone – he hasn’t done anything wrong. Chase says he’s trying to make sure everyone is safe. He’s not there to arrest him, but help him. He’s been instructed to find everyone and get them to safety. Mike says he guesses his grandson told Chase not to mess with him, and Chase says Dante gave him a real earful and Sonny is a very powerful man. Mike tells him not to forget it. He tells Mike his family is waiting at the hospital, but Mike will only go if Elizabeth can come. She tells him to go; she’s waiting for someone. Chase says he doesn’t think they’re coming, but she says she’ll take her chances; she insists on staying. Mike gives Chase a word of advice; never mess with a bride on her wedding day. Chase says it’s the wisest advice anyone has ever given him. He tells Elizabeth to be careful, and don’t stay too long.

Sam and Jason lift the cabinet, and Franco slides out. I guess nothing is broken? He thanks them, and limps out the door. Jason doesn’t know how Sam can just let him go like that. She says you can get stuck in the past, or accept what happened and choose to move on, living your best life. That’s what he taught her. Maybe she can teach him something. His hate for Franco can’t exist, and the pain can’t be there. If something happened, what would Jake say? When Jake is old enough to understand, it will be his choice, and how he chooses to deal is up to him. In the meantime… Jason says, gotta move on. Sam asks if he thinks he can, and he says he’ll try for her. She tells him she has to get to The Floating Rib. She looks around for a dog tag Danny gave her for Annabelle that must have fallen out of her pocket.

Elizabeth says, he’s not coming, but there he is. They embrace.

Mike sees Sonny at the hospital, and they hug. Mike tells Sonny that this time Sherlock Holmes here managed to respect his elders. Sonny says he owes Chase another one, and Chase suggests he keep an eye on Mike. Carly asks if she can take Michael home, but he has to be admitted for observation. He insists he just has a headache, but Griff says concussions are serious, and he needs to be monitored. They’re also keeping Nelle overnight as a precaution. Michael wants to check on her, but Carly says he needs to rest. Griff asks Amy to take him upstairs. Josslyn wants to wait for Oscar, and Carly tells her not to leave the ER.

Drew hears someone coming, and calls for help. Dante comes in, and says good, Oscar is awake. His girlfriend will be happy. Oscar asks if she’s okay, and Dante tells him that she is. Kim asks if he’s ready to get out, and Oscar says he wants to see Josslyn.

Tomorrow, Ned says the city is in chaos, Molly is admitted to the hospital, and Jason and Sam slide around Jim’s office. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Jim? Hopefully, a brick knocked some sense into him.

The Haves and the Have Nots

When last we left, David told Hanna that he knows Benny buried Quincy in Candace’s backyard. If he doesn’t turn himself in, David is having him prosecuted for murder.

Hanna says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but David thinks she does. She tells him to talk to her son. He says he tried, but he was busy having sex with Veronica. He thinks Hanna is smarter than her son. Hanna tells him not to be insulting, and he says it’s just an observation. She says he needs to observe his ass elsewhere. David says Benny needs to do what’s right. She’s a good Christian woman and should convince him. He says Candace is at the root of this mess; she got both of their sons involved. He doesn’t understand how she can still claim Candace as her child, and she says the same way he stood by wicked-ass Veronica all those years.

Hanna tells David that she won’t talk to Benny, and is through talking to him. He needs to talk to Benny. David says, for God’s sake, and she says for Him and David’s trifling wife. She doesn’t trust or like him. He lied when he knew her son was innocent. She thought he cared when she saw him cry, but it was only the Holy Spirit convicting him of lying. He’s asking that her son tell the truth, and she says she wanted David to tell the truth, but he didn’t. He asks if it’s biblical, and she says, an eye for an eye. He says that’s rather Old Testament, and she says it’s the one she’s leaning on right now.

Benny walks up, and asks what the hell David is doing there. Hanna says telling her about his ass sleeping with Veronica. David tells Benny to turn his ass in to the police, or he will. He tells Benny the police are looking for him. Benny says the body is inadmissible. David says he sees Veronica is training him well. Benny tells David to get out before he pisses him off. David says he can make it difficult. He tells Hanna that Benny is hanging out with Mitch, who comes from a mob family. Benny tells him again to get out. It dawns on Hanna that David wants to get her son into jail to get Jeffrey out, and tells him to get his trifling ass out; it’s about to get ugly. He says it’s already ugly. He tells Benny that Veronica isn’t to be trusted. Benny says he can’t trust David either. David finally leaves.

While flying in a tiny plane, Landon tells Charles that they’re looking good, but they’re behind in the red states. They have to turn the tide. He asks why they’re out here, and Charles says, they’re trying to turn the tide. Landon noticed Georgia on the list, and Charles says he’s trying to get more support there. Landon thinks Atlanta might be better than Savannah. He asks if Charles wants to see Candace, and Charles says he thought he made that clear. Landon says he’ll set it up.

Hanna tells Benny that he lied to her again. When she saw him at the hospital holding Veronica’s hand, she knew it. Benny says she called and wanted to talk about a case. He went to her house, and one thing led to another. Hanna says he’s talking like a stupid-ass man who doesn’t know how to keep it in his pants. She wishes his father had taught him morals and values. She thought she put sense into him when he was young. Benny insists he told Veronica it can’t happen again, and Hanna says he told her that last time. She asks what is it with the mob, and Benny says Mitch’s family is in the mob, but he’s not. Hanna wonders why David knows, and Benny says they had a run-in with each other. Hanna has one more question; what about the truck? Benny says he’s getting it on a lease. She says he’s spending time with Veronica, and now he’s talking about a truck. What credit does he have? She says he’s lying to her like about everything else. She has enough with Candace, and can’t take it from him. She says when she prays, she always finds out the truth, so he might as well tell her. Benny says he can’t do this. He’s just trying to get enough to get out of this woman’s house; it’s not theirs. Hanna says he’s following his sister’s path; she’s a liar, and whatever she has to in order to get ahead. It ain’t right; she can feel it in her spirit. He asks her to drop it, and she says it’s done.

Candace finds Landon waiting in her room. She asks what he’s doing there. He asks if that’s any way to talk to the man who got her out of jail. She says she doesn’t need him or Charles, and Landon says Charles doesn’t like to lose. She says she’s not an election or a prize. Landon says he’s going to win. Candace says she doesn’t care. Landon does; it’s his job. Charles likes her, and he’s not doing well personally. His debates have been off since he met her. (Really? It didn’t seem that way.) Landon doesn’t know what she does to men, but it messes them up. Charles is happy with her, but Candace says she won’t be used as a tool to prop him up. Landon has no problem with that, but has a problem with her not seeing it. She tells him get out. He thinks she should show some gratitude, and stop robbing old senators. It’s stupid and beneath her. Candace says this is who she is. She grew up in a tough place; it’s what they do. He needs to stop trying to help her and change things; this is her. He says it’s her pathetic way of dealing with her son’s death. She wants everyone to feel her pain. He tells her to cut the bullsh*t. There’s a better life waiting if she just changes a little. She wonders what she’d look like in the White House, and Landon says politics is the same thing. They screw people over, but are just dressed better. She tells Landon that she won’t see Charles. Landon says he’ll tell him, but don’t’ be surprised if he shows up.

Veronica yells for Melissa, finding her in the kitchen. She asks where her alcohol went, and Melissa says Veronica drank it all. Veronica asks if she’s drunk, and Melissa says she’s been drinking, but she’s not drunk. Veronica says she’s pregnant, and Melissa says she’s sure Veronica’s mother must have been drinking, and see how she turned out? Veronica grabs her, and drags her across he kitchen. Melissa throws up in the sink. Veronica tells her not to do it again, and Melissa says Veronica thinks she can keep her there to incubate her grandchild. Veronica says she won’t let Melissa harm the baby. Melissa says if Veronica thinks she’s going to let her do to the child what she did to her and Jeffrey, she’s sadly mistaken. Veronica tells her don’t do it again, and clean the sink. Melissa says she’s not cleaning anything, and Veronica smacks her. Melissa says Veronica thinks she can control her. Veronica says Melissa had one thing to do – have sex with Jeffrey – and she couldn’t do it. Melissa says he’s gay, and Veronica insists Melissa is the problem. Melissa screams, he’s gay, and says she can’t change it. Veronica says, watch her. Melissa is the problem. She’s trying to be nice, but Melissa is making it difficult. It could be much worse. Right now, she has creature comforts, space, and freedom, but she could lose all of that. Keep it up, and she will. Melissa says Veronica will never see baby, but Veronica says, quite the contrary. She will. Melissa wishes Veronica had died in the accident. Veronica says Melissa better be glad she’s not bruised or burned. She never forgets.

At the hotel, Jim is enjoying his time in bed with Gia, when Kathryn walks in. She says just as she thought, another whore. Gia asks who she is, and Kathryn says his wife. Gia didn’t know he was married, and Kathryn asks if the ring didn’t give it away. She tells Gia to get her clothes on and get out, unless she wants to get shot. Gia grabs her stuff she grabs her stuff and jets. Jim yells that Gia owes him. Kathryn says she owes him too; she should shoot him and put him out of his misery.

Kathryn tells Jim that they have a problem. He says they always do. She tells him it’s serious. The DA came to visit. They have the bullets, and there’s a match between Amanda and Jennifer. Jim says he should have known. He tries to call Sarah, but gets voicemail. Kathryn asks what they’re going to do. Jim doesn’t know, since it’s hard to think from a hotel room. He says the first thing is to testify against her. Maybe it’s not the right time for her to want a divorce; should he sign papers now? She repeats that it’s serious, and he says her cutting off his credit isn’t? He tells her to reinstate the money back into his account, then they’ll have something to talk about. She needs him more than she ever did in her life. Kathryn picks up the phone.

Gia goes to Candace’s hotel room, and tells her that the john’s wife was talking about shooting her. Candace tells her to calm down and breathe. Gia says she almost died, and Candace says, stop being dramatic, and save it for the johns. Gia says his wife jut came right in. Candace gives her a bottle of something from the minibar, and asks what happened. Gia says she just came in and said she was going to shoot her. Candace asks if she had a gun, and Gia says, no. Candace says she needs to toughen up. Gia isn’t sure she wants to be in this business, but Candace says, it’s her. She tells Gia to take a shower and find another john. Gia says she can’t do this, but Candace tells her that she can and will. She asks questions about the john, and realizes it was Jim. She asks if liked her, and how much he paid. Gia says he didn’t; she ran. Candace tells her never leave money behind. Even if his wife has an Uzi, always get the money. She tells Gia that Jim doesn’t like weak; he’s a dog eat dog kind of guy. She has to go back and get the money, and Gia asks what about his wife. Candace says she’s a joke. She can, and will, walk past that bitch. Gia says, okay; she’s got this.

Kathryn talks to Lloyd, and has him transfer $10 million to Jim’s account. Kathryn asks what they’re going to do, and he says he likes having obedient Kathryn back. No more nonsense about a divorce. There’s a knock at the door, and Gia comes in. Kathryn asks what part of get the hell out, bitch, she didn’t understand. Does she want to get shot? Gia just wants what’s hers; her money. Jim says he’ll meet at the bar, but she insists he give it to her now. Kathryn tells Jim to just let her shoot Gia. Jim gives Gia the money and she leaves. Kathryn says now that he’s done paying bills and whores, and he interrupts, saying he earned the money as a lawyer and on the bench. Kathryn laughs. He says they need to take a field trip. They’re going to talk to Wyatt about testifying. Jim will worry about the DA. They have to talk to their son. He tells her that she can go now or stay, but she’s not staying in that nasty-ass room. He says, thank you for small favors.

Wyatt is at the police station filing a report, and sees David. David says he’s there to see his son. Wyatt asks what’s going on, and David tells Wyatt to come with him.

Landon’s nameless friend tells him, welcome to Chicago. She’s working on Candace. Landon doesn’t get it, but she says they’re there to serve for the pleasure of the future president. She asks what’s going on with him, and he tells her not to say she told him so, but she does. She asks if he’s in love with Charles, and he tells her that he is. He doesn’t want to be, and she says she didn’t want to be involved with a nameless senator. I think it’s very appropriate, since she’s a nameless friend. Landon doesn’t know what to do, and she tells him, do nothing. Charles is a straight man, and if he did something it wouldn’t be good, so don’t do anything. Landon says Charles likes to drink, and they meet late at night when he’s wearing his PJ’s with no shirt. She tells him if anything happens, it will end badly. If Charles drinks, Landon has to drink less. She’s fallen into this trap. They part company.

Gia tells Candace that she got the money; the wife was bluffing. Candace says they usually are 99% of the time. Gia is excited about the money, but Candace takes it, and gives her one bill out of the pile. Candace says that’s her cut; now shower while she thinks of a plan for him. He’s a huge score. Gia says Candace took most of money, and Candace tells her, welcome to having a pimp. She wouldn’t make any money if her face was cut up. Candace tears the bill she gave Gia in half, and says complain again. She tells Gia to get her ass in the shower. She counts the money, and says, that’s all he paid? They have to talk.

David sees Jeffrey in the interrogation room. He tells Jeffrey that he’s working on getting him out. He knows it’s hard, but it will be okay. Jeffrey says David has no idea. David tells him that he’s brought someone in as his legal assistant. Wyatt walks in, and says, what the hell? Jeffrey says he didn’t do anything, and Wyatt asks why he’s there. David tells them nothing is supposed to be recorded there, but be careful what they talk about. He says he’ll be back.

Jeffrey tells Wyatt that Veronica had him arrested for Quincy’s murder. Wyatt wonders how she did that, and Jeffrey says he can’t say too much. He asks how Wyatt is, saying he seems fidgety. Why is he worried? Jeffrey is the one locked up. Wyatt asks if his dad will be able to get him out, and Jeffrey hopes so. Wyatt thinks it’s crazy that Jeffrey’s mom would do that, and tells him it will be all right. Jeffrey will testify against his mom, and he’ll testify against his parents, and they’ll be free. Wyatt has $9 million, and Jeffrey can come and live with him. Jeffrey has always been there for him, and he’ll do the same. Jeffrey says he’s tired, and Wyatt says, don’t be. Jeffrey can’t believe his mom did this to him, but Wyatt says he’ll give him money; they can move to Cali if he wants. they’re in the same boat. Jeffrey says she won’t accept him for who he is, and Wyatt says it will be okay Jeffrey thanks him. Wyatt gives him a hug, and… wait for it… Yep. Justin walks in.

Next time, the finale – Jeffrey says he doesn’t belong to Justin, Justin says he’s in love with Jeffrey, Veronica looks amazing with a new hairstyle, Candace tells Veronica she’s unstable, and Veronica asks Candace for David’s address.

Kyle meets Erika for lunch. Kyle says her show proposal, Glass Houses, was bought by ABC, and she’s trilled seeing it in print. She asks Erika how Tom is doing and confuses the bar association with an actual bar. Erika asks if she’s worked things out with LVP, and Kyle says absolutely. Erika wonders how blown out of proportion it is. Other people get involved, and it gets out of hand. They wonder what they should get LVP for her birthday, and discuss getting her a flamingo.

Dorit is going over her line-sheets for the swimwear, and tells PK that she came home to a host of email. PK says he met with the swimwear team, and she has a couture range of swimwear, but he thinks it should be available to everyone. In her interview, she says he’s not a fashion designer, and doesn’t know what’s needed. For her, it’s creation and a part of her soul. He doesn’t like the name Nova he thinks it should be more general, like Beverly Beach, an imaginary place where they’d like to go and make out. Dorit didn’t expect him to turn everything upside down. She says it’s like if she changed Boy George’s tour schedule without checking with PK.

She tells PK about Kyle thinking she’d badmouthed LVP, and coming to her rescue. Dorit says she had no bad intention, and thinks they should get over it. PK wants her to make sure things are smoothed over, since LVP’s birthday is coming up.

Erika, Teddi and Kyle ride together to Camille’s charity event. Teddi hates driving. Kyle says it’s when she does most of her thinking. LVP calls, saying she’s on her way, and asks if they are too. She wonders if LisaR is coming, but she’s sick. They discuss what they’re wearing.

Camille welcomes everyone to her event. She shows the ladies her fragrance line. The profits from the new fragrance go to the women’s cancer foundation. LVP arrives, and says she loves the fragrances. They’re also in gorgeous containers Like Jay Strongwater trinket boxes. She wonders if they have something for insecure women. Dorit arrives last – no surprise. She wants to repair the relationship with LVP, and says she’ll inject LVP with so much Dorit love, she’ll explode. LVP needs space and time to make it work again. Erika asks what LVP is doing for her birthday. LVP says she’s going for a ride on her horse, having lunch with her husband, and getting ready for the party.

Dorit talks about when she was pregnant and not drinking. She would listen to other people, and wonder if she talked the same sh*t when she had a drink. Erika is like, yep. Erika asks if she and LVP have resolved things, and Dorit says they’re family. She tells Erika that she and LVP had a conversation in the park, and the next time she saw her, LVP was mad at her. She tells the group if anyone else wants to chime in, now’s the time. Teddi says she would be hurt if it was her. The way Dorit spoke about the situation would have hurt her feelings. Dorit acts ignorant, but Teddi says they’ve already discussed it multiple times. She shared the information with Kyle about how it would make her feel, and Kyle told LVP, and that’s all. She’s done talking.

Dorit doesn’t understand how Teddi can be done with something. She involved herself in the chain of events, and made it sound worse than it was. In her interview, Erika tells us that you can’t get in the fight, and then back up when sh*t hits the fan. Dorit says Kyle was made to believe she’d been bashing LVP. Erika thinks the word bashing is strong. In her interview, Erika says everything would be resolved if cards were on the table. Teddi needs to take ownership. In her interview, Teddi says it’s easy to blame other people for your sh*t, but you have to take ownership. If it bothers you, don’t say sh*t you regret.

The ladies have dinner, and Camille makes a speech. She talks about having cancer, and how it runs in her family. Her mother is in the hospital. This is for her mom, and all the women battling the disease. She thanks them for coming. LVP says it’s her pre-birthday night, and Ken wants to be romantic. Dorit walks her out, and asks to talk. They sit on a sofa, and LVP tells Dorit that she’s being overly dramatic. Dorit wants to make sure they’re in a good place. LVP says she’s a little hurt, but okay. Dorit wonders what Teddi said, but LVP says Teddi isn’t a guilty party; she wans to make that clear. Dorit says she’s been bearing the brunt of what Teddi said to Kyle. LVP says what Dorit said about her being a needy friend wasn’t exactly a compliment.

LVP has to go, but Dorit gets stupid, pinning LVP down on the sofa, and saying she loves her. LVP says straddling her does nothing, and Dorit says she wants to make sure their friendship is secure. LVP says she’s the one who’s sounding needy. Dorit says she loves LVP, and their friendship means the world to her. LVP says it’s fine, and she’s going, escaping Dorit’s grasp. Dorit repeats that she loves LVP, and LVP says, just not enough, before disappearing out the door. In her interview, Dorit hopes forcing herself on LVP makes her realize she didn’t mean to do anything to hurt her.

Teddi arrives at work, and meets with client Dani. In her interview, she swears that accountability coach isn’t a made up job. Every one of her clients is a success story. She motivates them, and makes sure they work out and eat healthy; she’s on their ass. She and Dani get into some sweat-intensifying suits, and slip into things that look like sleeping bags. Teddi asks Dani why she reached out, and Dani says she was working out, but knew she needed something different. In her interview, Teddi says accountability isn’t just her job; it’s who she is. She’s direct to a fault, but doesn’t make excuses for her actions. She thinks Dorit isn’t taking ownership. Dani asks if this counts as a workout. Teddi laughs, but says no.

Erika meets with assistant Mikey, and some game developers. Erika Jayne is digital. She’s going to be a character in the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game. In her interview, she explains that you arrive in Hollywood with nothing – her old life when she first came. She worked at a mall and a struggled to pay rent. It wasn’t easy, especially being a single mom. She came up the hard way like Joan Crawford; it wasn’t a joke. She gets teary when she sees her character. It is really cute. The developers are excited. Erika says it’s a great marker of success, and apologizes for having an emotional moment.

Kevin Lee sets up what will probably be an amazing party at Villa Rosa. LVP asks him if it’s Vanderpump ready; she’s going to have a very scrutinizing audience. In her interview, she says some people think she’s a control freak because she plans her own birthday parties, but they’re really more for her friends; something gorgeous they can come to. O.M.G. The shrimp cocktails are massive and a work of art. LVP tells the head bartender, or whatever he is, about Dorit’s distress over the wrong glass at Teddi’s house. They settle on a green tumbler to serve her wine in. The bartender says, sorry, everything else was dirty.

Teddi says the swans aren’t digging her. Everything looks unbelievable and totally English garden. Flowers everywhere, flowing gazebo curtains, greenery hanging all over the place. Teddi sips champagne as LVP tells her about the tumbler. Dorit arrives, and Teddi is dying laughing when she comes out with the tumbler. Dorit plays along, screeching that she won’t drink rosé out of this glass. In her interview, she says, very funny, and drinks wine out of a short glass. This was pretty good, and more lighthearted than usual.

They sit in an enclosed porch for cocktails. The table is exquisite, with a silver bowl of lemons and limes. I want to cry, and wonder how I can get LVP to adopt me. Erika gives LVP a scarf. Maybe Hermes, definitely expensive. Teddi gives her a bareback pack so she can ride without a saddle. It’s saddle shaped, but like a shag rug. LVP calls Teddi her new best friend. Giggy! Teddi says Dorit had better bring her A-game. Dorit gives LVP a bracelet with an eclipse on it. LVP asks if it represents the eclipse in their relationship. In her interview, Erika says every insult is sheathed in a joke. Camille gives her a headpiece from the lingerie store. Black mesh bunny ears with a lace veil. It looks like something Lady Gaga might wear. Camille also gives Dorit a gift – a ball-gag. Giggy! Erika says she loves it, and Dorit says she doesn’t think she can use it. Since she’s either pretending not to get it, or not getting it, Camille tells her she opens her mouth too much. In her interview, Camille says she considered a muzzle, but the gag was sexier. Maybe Dorit will learn to shut up.

They sit down to eat. Kyle arrives late, coming from an event she’d previously committed to. I get impressed by the shrimp cocktails all over again. LVP says it’s been an amazing year. She calls Teddi, Teddi Bear, and Dorit doesn’t look happy. PK says she can go from Teddi Bear to Teddi Bitch in an instant, and Kyle wonders what LVP calls the rest of them. Camille tells Kyle about the ball-gag, saying it’s not offensive; not like a strap-on. Dorit can’t believe she’s still harping on that joke, and Camille asks why this isn’t a joke? In her interview, Erika says if Dorit doesn’t laugh this off, she’ll crucify her. We flash back to the beginning of Pantygate. Camille tells Dorit not to take it seriously, and PK tells Dorit to move on. I can’t believe Dorit is being such a brat and pouting.

GIGGY! LVP tells everyone that she got Giggy eight years ago today. Giggy gives her Cartier earrings to the tune of seventy-five grand. Dorit tells her to hand them over, and LVP says she might have done that two weeks ago, but now she’ll have to wait. In her interview, Kyle says she told Dorit it was only a matter of time. LVP has finally found a way of punishing Dorit. The guests toast to the birthday girl, and LVP says she’s going to PUMP later if they want to join her. Dorit says she’s not in; not today. She thinks they’ve celebrated well enough. In her interview, she says she didn’t expect to be a punching bag. She’s never seen this side of LVP. Oh, grow up. She can certainly dish it out.

Kevin brings out the cake, decorated with pink icing roses. tall pink candles, and a ballerina. In her interview, Dorit says she was poked at nonstop, and she’s done. She tells LVP it was beautiful, thanks her, gets up, and heads for the door. Camille tells her not to forget this, holding up the ball-gag. PK goes after her, and LVP follows. She asks Dorit if she’s okay, and Dorit says, great, wonderful. LVP asks if it was the ball-gag, telling her it was a joke. Dorit says it was funny, and it’s all good, but keeps walking. In her interview, LVP says she will give a dig in jest, but she was sending a message that the relationship has taken a different turn.

LVP attends a photo shoot at Bella magazine for her jewelry. She says clearly, they got it wrong last time. We flash back Dorit complaining about the pictures taken of her. Pandora says she looked amazing. LVP says she made such a big deal about not looking great, the photographer pulled shots, and it’s a shame.

This season, Edwin drives like a madman, the girls step in mud, Erika talks about being kidnapped, a trip to Berlin. LisaR in underwear, Erika does a show at a sex club, one of LVP’s pets dies (not Giggy, thank God), lots of fights, and Erika calls Teddi a crybaby.

🗽 Bethenny & Fredrick is worth watching. As with Million Dollar Listing New York, the properties are lustworthy, and their personalities larger-than-life. Tonight, Bethenny went nuts on Fredrick, spewing venom like when she called Luann a slut in the Berkshires. What it boiled down to was her not being used to partnering in this sort of business. She kept getting surprised by figures that were not included in the budget, and called Fredrick a snake oil salesman. Who says that unless they’re in an old movie? Anyway, poor Fredrick was taken aback, and got very emotional during a subsequent talk with her. He told her that he might have confused her, but never lied to her. She thanked him for understanding where her viciousness was coming from.

👃 I wanted to show you the beautiful fragrance line from Camille’s event, but when I put Camille Grammer Fragrance into Google images, I got this. You figure it out.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Oscar and Josslyn go to the freezer so they can be alone. Everything starts to shake. The party is rocking, and not in a good way. The Quartermaine mansion is shaking, Jim’s office is shaking, the church is shaking, and Sonny’s place is shaking. Everyone ducks and runs for cover.

Sonny finds Michael knocked out. Things are flying and falling everywhere. What did Jim hit during his excavation?

Elizabeth asks if everyone is all right at the church. Ava calls for Kiki. She’s fine, but Ava is bleeding. Griff looks for a portable radio.

The lights go on at Jim’s site. He’s like, omg. Franco has been knocked out by a metal cabinet, and is trapped beneath it.

Funny, the station looks just fine, except for the lights being out. The phones are down, and an officer says Charles Street was the hardest hit. Curtis looks grim.

Sonny asks if Michael can hear him. Michael starts to come to, but fades.

Jason and Sam look around. She runs upstairs to check on the kids.

At the party, Drew asks if everyone is okay. Kim can’t find Josslyn and Oscar, and wonders where they can be. Check the freezer, which is where all of us go to make out.

Oscar and Josslyn come out from under the table. Josslyn thinks it was an earthquake. She was in one once, but it wasn’t this big. Oscar tries to open the door, but it’s jammed.

Sam says the kids slept through the whole thing. I identify, having slept through the worst of Hurricane Sandy right in the middle of it. Jason says there’s no cell phone service. Ned and Olivia come in. Ned says they’re lucky. Jason says the mansion was built on bedrock, rather than the sediment landfill closer to town.

Lulu calls for help. Transgender kid Dakota has been hurt. Trina says Dakota saved her by running interference. Kim says she’s a doctor, and they have to pop Dakota’s dislocated shoulder back. I cringe, and Dakota screams.

Josslyn and Oscar yell for help. Oscar doesn’t think anyone can hear. Josslyn says they can’t do nothing, but Oscar tells her his parents will notice they’re gone. Josslyn says, unless they’re hurt. Oscar is sure someone will find them.

Jordan gives everyone instructions. Curtis starts to leave, but she says he’s still in custody. Just because it’s an emergency, it doesn’t mean the charges were dropped. She tells him to sit down and let her deal with this.

Jim asks if Franco can hear him, but Franco is out cold. Don’t move the cabinet or anything, Jim. Jim runs out. Hopefully to get help, but who knows; he’s such a jerk.

On the radio, there’s an announcement of a massive earthquake. Residents are told to stay indoors. Griff looks at Ava’s wound, and says it should be fine. Ava asks if anyone was hurt, but he doesn’t think so. The radio says the epicenter is where the main damage is, and it’s minimal in the outside neighborhoods. Residents are advised to stay off the roads. Doc sees Scotty knocked out.

Ned says he needs to be downtown. Olivia-Q says she owns a hotel, and should be checking on the guests. Jason tells them the roads need to be kept clear for first responders to get through. Sam asks if Jason can take her to town on his bike.

Kim makes a sling for Dakota. Drew can’t find Oscar and Josslyn. He says it’s bad out there. Two buildings have collapsed, and the construction across the street is a sinkhole. He asks if the kids have any idea where Josslyn and Oscar might have been before the earthquake. Trina says she saw them headed to the back room, probably to be alone. Kim and Drew go to look for them.

Oscar says there’s still no phone service, like this would change in two minutes. It’s still freezing, and he says there must be a backup generator to keep it cool even if the power goes out. Josslyn says it’s working, and Oscar gives her his coat, saying her goosebumps have goosebumps. She says they wanted to be alone; they got their wish. He asks if she’s played Never Have I Ever, and explains if you’ve done something, you take a sip. They both have cans of… soda? I can’t imagine it would be anything else, since Oscar has the fear of Sonny and Carly in him. He says never have I ever broken curfew, and they both drink. Josslyn says, never have I ever cheated on a test, and neither drink. Oscar says never have I ever fallen in love, and they both drink again, making googly eyes at each other.

Jordan sends out units to evacuate the area. There’s a broken gas main, and a fire spreading. She wants a mandatory evacuation. Curtis says he’s going to check on TJ, Molly, and Stella, but Jordan calls Officer Tucker over. She tells him to go to the 300 block and look for them. She describes Stella, but Tucker remembers her from almost being arrested. Curtis says if he finds her, be polite. His auntie has no patience for bad manners. Jordan asks Curtis to show his gratitude by not trying to escape custody.

Michael comes to again. Sonny helps him sit up. He wants to check on Avery, but Sonny says Ava took her for a sleepover. The generator kicks in, and Max asks if everyone is okay. He checks Michael, and asks him questions about things like what month it is. Michael says the one after February, and Max thinks Michael has a concussion. He has to be kept awake until they get some help. Michael insists he’s fine. He asks about his mom, but Max says there’s no sign of Carly or Mike.

Scotty starts to get up, and Elizabeth sees that his leg has been impaled by something. She calls Griff over, and he tells Scotty not to mess with it. Scotty wonders if he’s going to have to live with something sticking out of his leg, but Griff tells him that he doesn’t want to bleed out; right now, it’s keeping that from happening. Scotty says, no, he doesn’t. He tells Elizabeth that Franco loves her, and mumbles something about a secret. Elizabeth asks, what secret?

Franco opens his eyes, and tries to get the cabinet off of himself. It won’t budge, and he yells for help. Someone comes in. It’s Mike. Wth? Was he wandering around and is totally unhurt? Franco asks for a hand. Mike asks if he’s all right, and Franco says, does he look all right? Mike asks if this is Post Street, and wonders where the apartments went. Franco says they were demolished for construction, since they didn’t know an earthquake was going to get them out of the way. He says if Mike doesn’t mind, he has somewhere to be, and could he give him a hand? Mike tries to lift the cabinet.

Scotty passes out. Griff says the longer he’s there, the more opportunity there is for infection. Ava says the radio is out, but they’d said there was minimal damage west of Broadway. They decide to take Scotty to the hospital. Kiki says she’s coming too, but Ava thinks they should stay together. Kiki says she’s needed at the hospital, and Ava tells her to be careful. Griff asks for help with the tourniquet.

Jordan wonders how she’s supposed to manage the crisis and Curtis at the same time. She tells him if he leaves, he’s a fugitive, and if she lets him leave, it’s corruption. He tells her that he can do work she can’t. There hasn’t been an earthquake since 1991. Then Jim arrived. What if his excavation caused the condition for the quake? She says he can investigate when she’s legally able to release him. Curtis says if Jim is involved, his ass should be in a jail cell. Suddenly, his leg gives out from under him.

Sonny asks Max to check the grounds. Max tells Michael not to fall asleep. Michael tells them to find Mike and his mom. He’s not going anywhere until he knows they’re safe.

Sam needs to know Drew is okay, but Jason says he can take care of himself. Ned agrees, like he gets a vote (no pun intended). Sam begs, and Jason says he’ll take her.

Oscar starts to kiss Josslyn, but she seems really groggy, and loses her balance. Drew and Kim call out, asking if they’re back there. Oscar yells, telling them they’re in the freezer and need help. Josslyn says they’re not hurt, but really cold. Drew can’t get the door open, and looks around for something to pry it with. Kim tells the kids to hang on.

Elizabeth tells Doc she’s going to stay and wait for Franco. Doc asks if she’s sure. Elizabeth says unless Doc knows something she doesn’t, he’s coming. She doesn’t know why he’s not there, but her instinct says he loves her and will come for her. The cheese Elizabeth stands alone in the church.

Mike tells Franco the cabinet is too heavy. Franco tells him to find a board or something for a lever, or find someone else to help. Mike says, can do, and leaves. Great. He’ll forget two seconds out the door.

Jordan takes Curtis to the hospital, telling Amy that his leg went out from under him. Amy asks Dr. Park to check him. The doctor asks if he was hit by any debris. Curtis says nothing terrible, but Jordan adds that he was thrown to the ground and something fell on him, so there’s that. Jordan’s phone rings. It’s Ned. Jordan asks how everybody is, and says she’s waiting for a unit update. She finds out that Ned has talked to the governor, and she says they can use all the resources state can provide. She shows Amy a picture of TJ and Molly, but Amy hasn’t seen them.

Lulu finishes up Dakota’s sling. Trina thanks Dakota for saving her life. Dakota thinks that’s a slight exaggeration, but Trina says either way, Dakota was brave. She wishes bigoted Troy would stop being an idiot. Besides being the paintball dude, Troy must be the bully Oscar fought with. Dakota says Troy thinks freaks like him are sinful, and should be punished. Troy probably thinks the earthquake was the wrath of God. Lulu says Dakota is a hero, and as a mom, she’d be proud if her kids showed the same courage. Everyone smiles.

Josslyn starts to feel tired. She takes off Oscar’s coat, but he’s afraid she’ll get frostbite, and insists she wear his shirt. They sit, and get under the coat. Josslyn is glad she’s with him, and he says, him too.

Jason tells Sam the roads are blocked, and they’ll have to walk from where they are. Mike sees Jason. He’s confused. Wonderful.

Sonny asks if Michael is seeing double, and Michael says he’s better. Max tells them there’s no sign of Mike. Sonny wants all of his guys looking. He needs to get Michael to the hospital.

Jordan visits Curtis, who’s lying in a hospital bed. She tells him there’s still no word on TJ, Stella, or Molly, and he hopes no news is good news, Jordan asks if he’s going to live. He says he’s got a bandaged leg, a saline drip, and the hottest law enforcement official with him. Who could be luckier? She cuffs him to the bed, and says he’s still under arrest.

Elizabeth hears the sirens. She picks up a bouquet of flowers, and goes down Memory Lane about Franco. We flash back to them becoming friends, their first kiss, and their developing relationship. She remembers him telling her that he’d never intentionally hurt her, and her telling him that they’ll face things together or not at all. We flash back to them deciding to get married, and Franco’s proposal. She says Franco will be there. She knows it.

Kim tells Oscar and Josslyn to hang in there. Drew tries a crowbar, but has no luck. How about taking the hinges off the door?

Franco says he’s got to get to Elizabeth.

Mike asks who Sam is. When she reintroduces herself, he says she’s Jason’s wife. Sam asks if he hit his head, and Jason asks if he needs to rest. Mike thinks he’s okay, but tells them he was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Jason asks why he’s there, and he says he came for a reason. He just can’t remember it.

Drew gets the door partway open, but something is blocking it. He and Kim see Josslyn and Oscar, who look like they’re sleeping.

Tomorrow, Jason asks Mike who is trapped and where, Michael needs to find out about Nelle and the baby, Nelle feels a contraction, and Oscar and Josslyn aren’t okay.

Vanderpump Rules

The SUR staff is back at work. Scheana thinks it’s amazing how fast Lisa gets things done. She says all SUR needed was a little Botox, just like everyone else in West Hollywood. Lisa talks to Tom about the designs for TomTom. He asks how early the appointments are, and she says he’s going to learn what it’s like to have a day in the life of the Vanderpump regime. Jax tells Lisa that he’s coming to supervise the girls. She asks if they had fun in Big Bear, and Jax thinks James still likes Lala. Tom says it was awkward. Lisa says she’ll see Tom in Vegas, and will be avoiding Jax.

Lala brings Scheana to the recording studio. Scheana says she used to bring Shay there when she recorded, but thinks this will be a better experience. Lala wants to start taking music seriously, since it’s therapeutic for her. She wrote the song For You for her man. She put her own money in, because she doesn’t want her man coming to collect when she hits the Billboard number one spot. I advise her not to hold her breath.

Scheana tells Lala that Jax has been talking about Rob. She says maybe she is more in love than Rob, but Lala says even if he said that, why is it a big deal? He’s a man. She says this is called dating, and welcome to adult life. In her interview, Lala thinks Scheana needs to slow it down, and wait on the marriage and baby talk. Men get spooked. You need to ease them in.

Katie and Schwartz pack. Schwartz feels like he has a lot to prove. It’s his first real business trip.

Brittany tells Jax he’d better behave. He says they’ll probably party the whole time. The priorities are drinking, then business.

Tom says he and Schwartz are walking toward their future and can’t screw it up.

They check into Planet Hollywood. The Toms get VIP treatment. Jax claims not to be jealous, but…

Ariana says the suite is insanity, and if this is what it’s like working with Lisa, sign her up. The couch suspended from the ceiling is pretty cool. Schwartz says he’s been known to walk the line between business and pleasure. Sometimes it gets blurred, but they’re going to be on their best behavior. They toast to business, and move on to the pool where there’s an amazing water slide.

Back home, Lala, Scheana, and Billie order drinks. Billie says she’s an emotional mess. Her ex can’t commit. He can’t get over that she once had a penis, and she wishes he could look at her soul and spirit instead. Scheana says she used to feel lousy with Shay, and now that she’s with walking-on-water Rob, she knows he’s the right person. Lala tells them that she has a meeting with Stassi to help plan her showcase. In her interview, she says she wouldn’t have believed it a year ago, but Stassi’s events have been stellar. She’s nervous about working with James. Scheana thinks he should be as good of a friend to Lala as she is to him. Lala says he is, until he has one sip too many. She says she’d take a bullet for him, and gets emotional. Billie suggests he might have feelings for her or a crush on her. Isn’t that the same thing?

Ariana and Katie get ready to go out. In her interview, Ariana says Katie is different when she’s not with Stassi and Kristen, creating the three-headed monster.

The guys do some gambling and have shots. They toast again to business.

Brittany meets the girls, wearing almost nothing, and carrying a pregnancy test. She’s been throwing up, and doesn’t think there’s any way, but wants to know for sure. She’s not on birth control. Katie asks if they “pray and spray,” and Brittany says that’s best way to say it. In her interview, Katie doesn’t think they should be rolling the dice. I can barely understand a word, since my mind clouded over when she said they don’t use birth control. Are they insane??? And aren’t you supposed to do the test in the morning? Brittany goes to the bathroom. Ariana says she’s not ready for this. Neither am I. Brittany comes out, they wait for the results.

Tom declares the curfew to be one thirty-ish. The girls join them. Brittany tells Jax that she keeps getting sick, and he asks if she’s pregnant. In his interview, he says she can’t be. He’s very careful, and pulls out every time. Well, not every time, but a solid 75% of the time. I don’t even know what to say; I’m so stunned. Brittany takes out the test, and he says, are you really? She tells him to read it, and laughs. Schwartz is like, omg, and Brittany says Jax is lucky. If they lived in Kentucky, they’d have at least two kids by now. He’s living in Neverland. She’s not pregnant, and in his interview, Jax says he’s 10% disappointed. He thinks be a good father, and he’s almost forty. I’m sure he’d make a great father. Except for that leading by example part. I’m going to assume this was done for the show, since no one seemed to be having much of a reaction, except for laughing at the end, but I can only pray that they’re lying about not using birth control. Please. People can’t be this stupid and breed on top of it.

Stassi meets Lala at the bar. She hates sake, but Lala is a client, so she’s drinking it. I love sake, but it’s sneaky. It goes down smooth, and you think you’re good, then you get up to go home. Lala says even though they had issues, she’s always kind of liked Stassi. We flash back to earlier times when they were at each other’s throats. Stassi relates to Lala because she gets over-emotional and defensive, and reminds her of herself. Lala admires that Stassi is loyal, and stands up for what she believes in. Stassi thinks the venue should be somewhere that already has a bar. Lala says James is performing one song, but it’s her showcase. She’s been connected musically with him in the past, but this time, the showcase is all about Lala. In her interview, Lala says it’s time she spread her legs [sic], and be the person she’s meant to be musically. The producer points out that she said, “spread her legs.” She laughs, and says she meant, spread her wings. That was a good one, and seemed genuine.

Lala tells Stassi about James coming for her when they were at Big Bear. She wonders how they can make it so he has no alcohol until he’s done with his job. Stassi says she needs to decide if she’s okay with having him around in a professional manner.

The group goes to a robot bar. Jax says he would think it’s cool if he wasn’t a bartender. He thought it was a safe zone. They move on to gambling, which I know nothing about, so have no idea what game they’re playing. Schwartz says the rules are no shots after 6 a.m., water with each drink, and no going to the ATM. He also puts the vampire law into effect. Once the sun comes up, you run to your room.

The couples tumble into bed. Schwartz says he has a big day coming. Tom thinks they must be the only people up in Vegas, but Ariana says Jax is wide awake. A few hours later, Schwartz is impressed that he and Tom are ready on time. They’re not sitting at the kiddie table anymore.

Jax says Brittany freaked him out. Brittany thought he’d be mad, and at least he has the decency to ask why. In her interview, Brittany thinks Jax would be a good dad. He’d have fun playing with the kids, but it would be like the dog situation, and she’d have to take care of everything. I hear you, sister.

The Toms go to a showroom with Lisa and Ken to look at restaurant stuff. Lisa tells us that each restaurant has its own personality, And TomTom will be different than the others; she has a vision. It’s not going to be pretty, but industrial romantic. She wants wrought iron, chandeliers, Edison bulbs, and to be more architectural. Sounds kind of like Steampunk to me. She and Schwartz look at dishware. Lisa tells him that his opinion matters. She’ll never use it, but it matters. In her interview, she says she wants the restaurant to have a masculine edge – unlike Tom and Tom. The sales VP gives Lisa a BOGO deal. In his interview, Schwartz says shopping with Lisa is like playing one on one with LeBron James. Lisa says they were actually on time and looked pretty good. It’s nice to know they can listen and learn, and maybe it will work out after all. She tells them there’s a meeting at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Schwartz feels professional. He takes portable Jell-O shots out of his pocket at the store.

The group gathers around the suspended sofa. Jax gives Tom a guitar for his birthday, and everyone sings Happy Birthday. Tom says Jax does sh*tty things, but can also be a nice guy. There’s a kind heart buried underneath somewhere. Tom plays, and the girls get a birthday cake together. It has a penis drawn on it because Tom just turned fourteen.

Lisa has reserved a private dining room for the Toms and their ladies. They sip rosé, and Tom wonders if this is what it’s going to be like working with Lisa. Ariana says it feels like being a trophy wife. In her interview, Katie says it’s all she’s wanted for Schwartz. He’s finally excited about and committed to something. They agree that James would order a pizza.

James does a photo shoot with Lala and Raquel as an audience. His DJ gig is doing well, and he wants bigger and better things. Next, he’s throwing a party under a blimp. Lala tells them about going to the studio with Scheana. She says since Scheana had recorded before, she put her ass in a booth. We see a clip, and she stinks to high heaven. Lala says she loves Scheana with all her heart, but she’s tone deaf, and that part is getting cut. Lala’s boyfriend isn’t coming to the showcase because he has to work. James thinks if her man can’t take a night off to support his girl, it’s sad. Lala says it’s not James’s showcase, and he’s not allowed to drink until after the performance. He claims to be professional when comes to music, and they toast to no drinking.

Tom won’t stop making jokes involving the word quack, because they’re having duck. Schwartz asks what the curfew is, and Tom says 3 a.m. at the latest. In his interview, Tom says they’ve matured now, and are climbing the mountain to success. Nothing is getting in his way.

At eleven o’clock, they take a limo to Tao, and the others meet them there. In his interview, Tom says he only has so much restraint. A line of women come out with neon signs spelling out Tom’s name, and a giant cupcake with a candle in it. Many, many shots happen. Jax stops Schwartz from drinking directly out of the bottle. Schwartz says he’s letting Tom take the lead, and Tom says the same thing about Schwartz. Tom tells Schwartz another hour, but somehow, they get back in the limo shortly after three.

Lisa meets with the Caesar’s entertainment guy. Her rosé is going to be served there. Pandora is also at the meeting, and wonders where the Toms are. Lisa is getting concerned.

At 10:20, Ariana and Katie tell their significant others they’re late for the meeting. Schwartz says he’ll have to take an Adderall to focus. No judgement, but that makes two cast members openly using that not for its intended purpose. Lisa wonders where those two little twits are.

Lisa is getting worried, and only has so much patience. Schwartz says he’s sweating Fireball, and his hair smells like cigarettes. Lisa says it’s not looking so good. It’s the antithesis of what happened yesterday. She’s not impressed by their actions, or their odor; they smell like a brewery. Lisa doesn’t want them lagging behind. They go to the designer’s showroom.

Lisa calls him a genius, and says he’s more than a designer; he’s a craftsman. They look at some pieces, and I’m thinking definitely Steampunk. I love it. Lisa picks some things out. She says there’s a lot to think about in putting a restaurant together. It has an image. It’s not just about food, but a whole experience. She sketches some things for the designer, and he gives her some ideas. Lisa tells the Toms to settle down or do something else; they’re making her nervous. They tell her they’re just excited, but it’s that point in the hangover when you’re still a little drunk, and God knows what they took in the morning to wake up. In her interview, Lisa says that when someone knows more than you do, you have to understand when to zip it. This could be that time. Lisa talks to Ken in the other room, saying they’re driving her crazy. Tom interrupts, wanting to show them something, but Lisa tells him to wait. In his interview, Tom thinks he said too much because he drank too much. He hopes Lisa isn’t questioning their partnership. Schwartz tells Tom that his liver is pickled.

Next time, Jax wears a man romper, James’s dad comes to his gig, and Billie is going on a date with someone Stassi thinks is creepy.

🏊 The parents came for a visit on Summer House. The only thing sadder than people still being prepubescent in their thirties, are the parents encouraging that behavior. After they left, Kyle had a birthday party, with the theme being a protest to growing up. I can’t imagine someone like him being in my circle of friends when I was thirty-five. Or even twenty-five. The party was filled with guests in Colonial costume – an ode to the Boston Tea Party – and Stephen dressed like the queen. Stephen seems to be the voice of reason on this show. Probably because, being gay, he isn’t distracted and brain-addled by so many boobies living in the house.

🌌 I’d love to see A Wrinkle in Time. It was one of my favorite books as a kid. I must have read it at least ten times. However, I’ve vowed to avoid anything under an R rating after seeing Secret Window with Johnny Depp. He was in the movie; he wasn’t my date. I felt like I was in the middle of a field trip, surrounded by lit-up phone screens. Unfortunately, my peripheral vision is really good, and it was totally distracting.

😩 The latest in TV advertisement stupidity are the commercials for medicine, both prescription and OTC, warning us not to take it if we’re allergic to it. And while you’re at it, let me remind you, that plastic bag is not a toy.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Walking Dead

Michonne

Michonne looks lost while Rick decorates the cross on Carl’s grave with a gun. She lets off steam by whacking some zombies’ heads off. As I like to do when I’m stressed. She looks at the half burned down Alexandria, and shuts the gate. Making sure to take half a zombie’s face off with it, and stabbing some in the eyeballs first.

Rick asks for some pudding. Just kidding. Nobody is saying anything, and I got bored. Michonne looks at Carl and Judith’s finger-paint handprints on the porch, and gets even more bummed. She goes inside. She tells Rick they have to go. They slip out the back door.

When they get to the car, Michonne grabs a fire extinguisher and runs with it; Rick following with another one. They try putting out a fire in the gazebo, but the zombies are forming a crowd, so they both run back to the van. Nice try. Alexandria has officially been taken over by zombies.

Rick asks what Michonne is thinking. Does she want to stop fighting? She says they could pull over, but he says not yet, not him. He wants to talk to Jadis. They have weapons and people, and they need them. She asks why now? He tells her that they went to the Sanctuary. They were seen, and will be a target too.

They sneak around where the trash pile is. Rick opens the door to go in, and it’s like a Three Stooges prank. A rope is triggered, and all this stuff on the roof above tumbles down. There are zombies all over the place.

Negan

Negan wants his men to check every nook and cranny. The Alexandrians had an escape plan. Rick’s kid is plaguing him; he’s built for this sh*t. Simon asks if he’s heard from Gavin. Negan says, no, but it’s coming. Gavin is perpetually pissed off, but has it together. Simon asks where Negan wants him; he’s not running down Rick. Negan says, the garbage people. Simon thinks it will be worth it to get the guns, but Negan says they may have pulled a triple-cross, but they’re still a resource. A deal with him is a lock, stock, and suck-my-barrel deal. He tells Simon to deliver the standard message. Take one out, and the rest fall in line. Just one. He asks if Simon has anything to say. Simon thinks maybe they should cut their losses. None of them can learn the lesson, no matter how many times they teach it. No one understands the situation one little bit, so maybe they should learn. Scrape the plates into the trash, move further out, and find other communities to save. Negan laughs. He’s doing his best to hold it together right now. He tells Simon to take own advice. The easy way isn’t their way. Saving people is hard, but it works. Simon says (it finally became unavoidable), not lately, and Negan tells him once he clips Rick, everything will be aces again.

There’s a knock at the door. Some guys bring in a delivery. It’s the crate from Hilltop. Negan tells them to get out, and he reads the lid: We have 38 more – stand down. We hear zombie noises from inside. Simon pries open the Crate, and Negan nail guns Dean in the head multiple times. Simon tells Negan that means the rest are from the outpost. They’re killing everyone, and he can’t let them get away with it. Negan tells him he’ll do his job. Simon is obviously not happy, but says nothing.

Enid

Enid and Aaron are shoved into a house by the Oceanside women. Aaron says, let’s talk about it, but they get chained to a radiator. One of the women tells Cyndie that Netanya was her family, and another says she should just kill them. The women leave, and Enid and Aaron are left alone.

Aaron says they’ll get out of it. Enid says it’s not about that. She had to do it. Netanya made her do it, and she’d do it again

Cyndie and her crew come back, and unchain them. They cuff Enid and Aaron’s hands behind their backs, and Cyndie says take them to the beach. Aaron says it’s her decision, but she has to own it (what is this? Real Housewives?), and she’d better have a good reason to kill them, other than making herself feel better. Killing is the punishment, but if Cyndie executes them, some of their people will come looking. They might kill a few more, but eventually, they’ll get wiped out. Her grandmother got herself killed. He tells her not to make the same mistake. Let them go. They’ll keep fighting, and the Oceansiders can keep hiding. Cyndie says, no… they live, confusing all of us

Aaron asks if she wants to know if they win, and she says, yes. He asks her to help them win. She says their contribution was not killing them, and they’ve taken everything else the Oceansiders can give. She tells him not to come there again. Aaron suggests they stop trying to kill strangers. They need to know the difference between friends and enemies. She says, don’t come back. Cyndie and her posse walk off, looking like weird Girl Scouts.

Aaron asks if Enid knows how to get to the car. She says they’re not going to help. Aaron wants to go home, but can’t leave until they join the fight. Enid says Beatrice and Cathy (which, no doubt, is spelled Kaythe) seem open to it, and Aaron thinks he can convince both. He tells Enid to go back and tell Maggie what he’s doing, but not to come. Enid thinks they’ll kill him if he goes back there, and he says he won’t go back there. No matter what happens, he’ll be okay. She makes him promise she’ll see him again, and he makes her promise she’ll be okay. They hug, and he tells her to go.

Commercial break. Talking Dead has a surprise guest. That usually means someone significant dies.

Simon

Simon is going to the landfill. He says, no worries, grabs some dudes, and they head to the heap.

Both the Saviors and the Heapsters draw their guns. Simon asks Tardis Jadis if they’re not friends, and she gives a nod. He says the bottom line is they need an apology – genuine. He knows she had a side deal with Rick, despite their preexisting arrangement. She saw them, and tried to kill them. By now, she’s had time to prepare a heartfelt act of confession. He tells her to feel free to use notes. Jadis says, no deal with Rick. They delivered him, brought him to the Saviors. Simon calls bullsh*t, but says no need to worry. They’ve cut themselves a big break. Negan is graciously willing to forego punishment. If they agree to revert to the agreed upon terms, all is forgiven. However, they will be taking all guns and ammo the Heapsters currently have. Jadis says danger is everywhere, and they need guns too. Simon tells her not when they have the Saviors. The Saviors will provide guns when they need them. Jadis nods because she’s used up her words for the day. The Saviors take their guns.

Simon asks about painting, if she learned it before or after. She says you don’t learn, you just know, which I kind of agree with. He asks why the dump? There had to be a better place to call home. Jadis says, our place. He wonders what the deal is with the helipad and solar panels (which is a clue to something, according to Robert Kirkman), and asks what it was before. She says, a dump. Simon laughs, but he’s not buying it. He wants to know if she understands they have guns and a deal, and he wants the full definition of an apology. What he got was a transgressional acknowledgment, and the guns as restitution, but no remorse. She says, there is remorse, and he shoots Brion. She repeats, there is remorse, and he shoots Tamiel. (Her two main people. I got their names from Talking Dead.) Jadis punches Simon, knocking him down, and says, there is remorse, you SOB. He says, no, no, no. He doesn’t think she means it. He says, light it up, gents. Everyone starts screaming, and they shoot… everyone? I’m not so sure Negan is going to like this.

Simon returns. Simon tells Negan that they got guns that and then some. Negan asks how it went, and he says the standard mess and delivery. They showed and told him they had remorse. There’s a call for Negan on the radio. It’s Rick.

Jadis

Michonne and Rick knock off the zombies at the trash pile. They climb up, since zombies aren’t good at climbing. Jadis is there. Michonne asks what happened, and Jadis says, Saviors. Rick asks how they get out, and Jadis says the same way they got in.  Jadis starts to talk, and loses her woman-of-few-words shtick as she goes along. She says they weren’t heaps. There was just trash far as the eye could see. She would go there to find things to paint on – metal and fabric. When everything changed, she realized the whole place was a canvas, and they were the paint. They could create something new, become something new, and they did. This was their world, apart from everyone else in every way. Rick says, you did this because of you.

Rick picks up a car door, and twirls it around. He bends some pieces of it; he’s going to use it as a shield. Jadis says she’s coming with them until they’re gone. Rick says he’s done with games. She can’t help them anyway. He goes down, and uses the door to knock some zombies around, and shoots some others. Michonne shoves the stuff in front of the door out of the way. Jadis asks them to just let her get out, but no deal.

All is quiet at the trash piles. Jadis pounds on the ground, and the zombies come toward her. They’re stopped by a chain several feet from her. She flips a switch, and a grinding machine turns on. I assume it was once used to crunch up trash. It’s between her and the horde, and she releases the chain with a stick. As they continue forward, they fall in and get chopped up. Cool. She watches as people she knows fall in. She cries. It churns out chili con zombie. When all of the zombies have been dispatched, she shuts off the machine.

Jadis digs a file cabinet out of one of the trash piles. She takes out a box that says apple sauce. I think it must be something else, and just says that to throw people off, but it’s apple sauce. She eats some, and I reflect on Carl’s pudding, and eat a piece of beef jerky, which somehow seems appropriate.

Rick

Rick tells Michonne he shot above Jadis’s head; he saw she made it. He didn’t want her dead, just gone. Michonne says they have a choice. He stops the van, and says he needs a second. He gets out and walks through a field next to the road.

He takes out Carl’s letter to Negan, and looks at it. I guess we don’t get to know what it says, but Rick looks like he has a headache. He radios Negan, who asks where he is, saying they should talk face to face. Rick says Carl is dead, and Negan is visibly shaken. Rick tells Negan that Carl left some letters, and wrote one to him. He asked Negan to stop, and asked Rick to stop. He asked them to make peace, but it’s too late. Even if Negan wanted to deal, it doesn’t matter. He’s going to kill Negan. Negan asks how it happened. Was it them? The grenades or the fire? Rick tells him that Carl went out to help someone, and got bit. Negan says, goddammit. He says he’s sorry, and I totally believe it. He’d wanted Carl to be part of things; he had plans. Carl was the future. Rick says the only future is one where he’s dead. Negan asks why Rick is making this hard. Carl is dead because he couldn’t leave sh*t well enough alone. Maybe he would have died anyway, but in this case, he’s dead because Rick wasn’t there to stop him from doing something stupid. He set the course; who’s next? Rick says, Negan is. Negan says, someone is. He stops people from dying. He’s the answer. It might be a hard lesson to hear, but it’s time. He tells Rick not to let another sh*t decision cost him the people he loves. That garbage sticks with you forever, like Carl will. He’s feeling it, and will for a while. He could have let Negan save all of them. That’s why he killed them in the first place, so Rick could say he’ll kill him when he won’t. He’s failed as a leader. He should just give up. He’s already lost.

Next time, Gabriel is up and running, Dwight says it’s too dangerous, a swamp full of zombies, and Eugene makes something.

👂 Although I’ve long grown weary of this show being so one note – now Rick even seems to have perpetual tears in his eyes – I actually got something out of the episode. Negan’s methods need some serious tweaking, but he makes sense to himself, and is better leader than Rick, especially at this point. Rick should have waited a hot minute before going against Negan, since he was originally taken by surprise and didn’t have a plan. Instead, he went on his emotions. It seems odd that now he doesn’t want to take a stab (no pun intended) at making Carl’s vision a reality. What spoke to me, is that Carl had a revelation of an idyllic new society, and instead of trying to make that happen – which seemed to be his original plan – Rick has put up his own road block. It made me think of how we often get in our own way of attaining what we say we want. Of course, zombie stories are rarely really about zombies. I just wish this one were more balanced. To be fair, I doubt Carl’s dream could be achieved. It’s like socialism. Great in theory, but there’s always somebody who is going to want more. And in this case, that somebody is Negan.

📡 As much as Walking Dead annoys me, I love Talking Dead. It’s nice to see that nerds are finally getting a voice, and not just on the Sy – we can’t spell – Fy channel. I’m sure The Big Bang Theory made a big contribution to that. Along with Comic Book Men, this show is a nerd’s dream. Lots of getting deep into things that are pretty much meaningless. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a nerd myself, and labeled myself as such long before it was fashionable. I used to stand out at Star Trek conventions. I’d probably just blend in now. Anyway, Chris Hardwick fooled us. The surprise guest was Enid (Katelyn Necon), who did not die. There was some discussion as to whether Rick did the right thing not helping Jadis get out. The general consensus was that he did, because she’d screwed him over. I’m of two minds on that. Yeah, there is that, but she got left alone with a load of zombies after she’d just poured her heart out to him about her art – and probably used more words than she had in the past two years. On the other hand, while I don’t think her wanting to get the best deal for her people was that horrible, Rick might have done her a favor in having to be on her own, and rely on herself. Who knows? Maybe she’ll end up at Oceanside. The highlight of the show for me was when they had the factoid segment. According to his portrayer, Steven Ogg, Simon is a multi-layered persona, who is a bit of a bully, but loves musical theatre. Who knew?

🏥 Speaking of Comic Book Men, glad to hear Kevin Smith is on the mend.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly takes pictures of Oscar and Josslyn. She says they’ll be grateful when they’re older, and insists on Jason taking one with her in it. She leads Oscar away for a chat, and Josslyn is understandably mortified.

Sam and Drew make out at the dance, because they’re suddenly fourteen again. Lulu talks to Kim about the reason for the party, and Kim says it’s ultimately for the kids to just be themselves.

At the gallery, Nelle asks Michael if he’s listening. He says he was miles away, thinking about the future. The baby’s and theirs.

Curtis does push-ups in his cell. Jordan comes by, and he asks if she has any idea when her man is getting out of the clink. She says it’s beyond her control. He suggests she do something that is in her control, like tailing Jim and finding out what his plans are for Port Charles before it’s too late.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth that no one’s heard from Franco. Elizabeth checks her phone, and says, nothing. Epiphany says he’s not actually late yet. No need to panic… yet.

Franco insists Jim tell him what happened. Jim says he got himself riled over nothing. They were just little kids. Franco says his whole life he’s felt unraveled, but Jim thinks he’s making his own misery. He’s healthy, gainfully employed, and has a woman who loves him waiting at the church; isn’t it enough? Franco says when he stands next to Elizabeth, he wants to be the best possible human he can be. He wants to know what happened. Jim tells him to be careful what he wishes for. What if he digs for clues that don’t exist, and it ends up costing him everything he has?

On the phone, Valentin tells Nina not to rush. He’s at the restaurant and will grab a table. Peter approaches him, and asks if Valentin knew his father was sick. Valentin says a pigeon could tell he was deranged. Peter says he had a brain disease, and there’s a 50% chance it got passed on to him.

Carly interrogates Oscar. Among her many questions, she slips in asking if they stocked up on wine coolers. She tells him no drinking, or no him and Josslyn.

Josslyn tells Jason that she has it easy compared to Michael. She thinks he’d be happier if they’re mom laid off of him. He and Nelle are having a baby, and it would be better if they were together. Josslyn says her mom thinks she can run their lives better than they can, and Jason tells her that she sounds like her mom. She says it doesn’t make her wrong. Nelle did some spectacularly stupid stuff, but it doesn’t make her a bad person. Carly comes back, and tells Josslyn to post lots of pictures – on her real account, not the fake one she created for Carly to follow. Josslyn and Oscar leave. Jason says Josslyn seems to like her dress. Carly says she loves it, and when she wants something, she’s relentless. Jason gives her a look, and she says she knows. That’s what scares her. The dress is okay, but nothing spectacular like I expected. It’s kind of like the first dress Carly nixed, but off-white and patterned.

Michael tells Nelle that spending the day with his grandfather got him thinking. Mike isn’t doing so well. Nelle says she’s sorry, and she’s there for him. He says she can’t promise that; no one can. They have to think about what would happen to their child if they die or are incapacitated. When he saw his dad with his grandfather, he realized they can’t put it off. They have to choose who takes care of their child if something happens to them. Nelle says she has no family, which leaves his. She hopes he isn’t suggesting they give the baby to his mom. He says he has someone else in mind.

Epiphany asks if Elizabeth is sure she’s ready to marry someone who self-sabotages. Elizabeth says Franco doesn’t think he deserves the things he wants, but believes he’ll learn to trust himself. Scotty pops in, saying the guests are getting restless. Epiphany says they can’t start without Franco, and asks if Scotty has any idea where he is. Scotty says he’s not Franco’s wrangler. Epiphany says, no, but he’s Franco’s dad and best man. Scotty says he’ll find him.

Franco wants Jim to tell him what happened. Jim says he and Betsy weren’t together that long, but he cared for her, and could catch flak for this. Franco says the only person Jim has to worry about is him. If Jim doesn’t tell him, there’s going to be trouble. Jim says, not for him, just for Franco. He was there when Andy took a header down the stairs.

Lulu talks to the kids, saying she’s writing a piece for the Port Charles Press. What they’re doing deserves exposure. Oscar says they just want to have fun. They’re tired of the antiquated rules, and wanted an alternative where everyone can feel safe and welcome. A boy walks in who looks like trouble.

Franco calls Jim a liar, and says he wasn’t there. Jim says he was, and the lie was the lesser of two evils. Franco should be grateful that he had a good life. What if Jim wasn’t so discreet? Franco asks what he’s talking about. Jim says Franco remembers, but Franco says not all of it. Does Jim think he’d be there if he did? Jim says he’s just not man enough to admit it, and he’s making him do all the work. Don’t say he didn’t warn him. Franco tried to kill Andy.

Jordan asks if Curtis is going to tell her next that the moon landing didn’t happen, and to let go of the conspiracy theories. He can speculate all he wants, but without legal evidence, how can he prove it? He says he’ll do the speculating. Jim shows up, buys up most of Charles Street, and throws money at one of the candidates who supports his plan. Then, there’s a sudden spike in crime and the quality of life goes down. Jordan says it drives down the property values, he buys cheap, the redevelopment passes, and construction begins. Curtis says he promised the neighborhood an arena and condos, but he has something else planned. Curtis says, it’s bigger than him; it’s about the community. They need to do something before it’s too late.

Carly tells Jason that Josslyn isn’t afraid to dream big and go after her dreams. She thinks about the awful things she did when she was just a little older, and what would have happened if not for him. He says she would have figured it out on her own. She says, or turned out like Nelle, incapable of taking responsibility for anything. She tells Jason that everyone thinks he’s too easy on her, and so do I. It ticks me off how she keeps saying Nelle is just like she was, but won’t help her or cut her some slack. Jason doesn’t care what everyone else thinks. She’s a great mom, and Josslyn is turning into a great person. She’ll make mistakes, but they have to be hers. That’s how Carly is different from Nelle; she learns from her mistakes, and Nelle doesn’t. He gets a call, and has to go.

Nina tells Carly that she saw Josslyn’s Instagram post, and her dress is spectacular. They have one like it in the Crimson closet, but the design isn’t coming out until fall. She wonders how Josslyn got the dress, and Carly says Nelle gave it to her. She claimed she got it from a runway show Nina sent her to. Nina says she never sent Nelle to a runway show, and Carly tells her to check if the dress is still in the closet.

The kids dance, and the troublesome dude walks around scowling. He takes out a… tomato? He yells, freeze, and throws it. It’s a paintball, and hits Josslyn’s dress smack in the middle. Oscar takes him down. Drew intervenes.

Drew tells the kid he’s lucky he’s not calling the cops, and to get out. Drew tells Oscar it’s over, and he’s okay; don’t let him win. He needs to get the momentum at the dance back up. Kim thanks Drew for stepping in before it got out of control. He claims he’s just doing his job as a chaperone.

Josslyn says she’s okay, just stained. Lulu says, sorry, but it’s not coming out. One of the genderfluid kids says he was aiming for them. Josslyn says he has worse issues than his batting accuracy. She can’t believe he ruined the dance, but it’s agreed her dress looks kind of cool, and she calls it Jackson Pollocky. Drew asks if Sam can dance in the shoes she’s wearing. They need to get the party back on track.

Peter tells Valentin that with Huntington’s disease, you go insane, lose you motor skills, and die. Yikes. He says it manifests itself between the ages of thirty and fifty. Valentin says his father was definitely insane, and asks if Peter is going to get tested. He’s not sure if he wants to know, but Valentin encourages him to do it. Peter says his father also left a will. Drew and Jason are beneficiaries, and Faison left them a way to identify him, but it can only be accessed if one of them dies. Valentin says they hate each other, but hate Faison more. He asks if there were other beneficiaries, and Peter says the bulk of the estate was left to his son. Nina suddenly appears, and says he was a sick freak.

Nelle asks the baby if daddy scared it. She says he’s just being responsible, and at least he agreed not to give the baby to Carly. Carly won’t be an option by the time the baby is born though. By the time mommy is done with granny, she won’t be fit to raise a Chia Pet. Carly walks in, and asks if Nelle is talking to herself? It makes her sound crazy.

Jason meets Michael at the mansion. Michael tells him that he and Nelle are getting things ready for the baby in advance. Jason tells him to enjoy sleeping in unstained clothing while he can. Michael tells Jason that they’d like him to take care of baby if anything happens to the both of them. There’s no one he trusts more, unless asking too much, Jason says he’d be honored.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth that they’re officially running behind. Scotty says he checked everyone with a pulse at the hospital, and there’s no sign. Epiphany asks, what about the studio, and he says he’ll check there. Elizabeth says he doesn’t need to do that. If Franco was late, he would have called. He’s not there because, whatever his reason, he chose not to be. The wedding is off.

Franco says, that’s not what happened, and Jim says, yes it. He saw it unfold from start to finish. He was watching the boys, and realized he hadn’t heard a peep for a while. He saw Franco at the top of the steps, and had a smirk like he was ready to show off. One second, Andy was standing on the steps, and the next he wasn’t. He’ll never forget the sound of him hitting the basement floor.

Drew and Sam show off their dancing skills to the amazement of the kids. When they’re finished, Sam’s phone dings, and she tells Drew she has to pick up the kids, but he should stay.

Nelle warned Carly about calling her crazy. Carly asks what she’s going to do, take another swing at her or whine to Monica? Nelle says Monica cares about the baby; she doesn’t. Carly accuses her of using Monica and Josslyn. Nelle asks if she can’t be friends with her baby’s aunt. Carly says she’s only using Josslyn to get to Michael, and it ends now.

Elizabeth says she’s going to make an announcement, but doesn’t want the boys there. Epiphany says she’ll take them, but it’s still early. Does she want her to stay? Elizabeth says she’s a big girl, and can handle herself. Epiphany has no doubt, and says her no good fiancé better hope she forgives him before they cross paths. Scotty says the subways are more dependable than his son. He hasn’t been right since the Drew and Jason stuff came out.

Jordan tells Curtis that he’s not the only one doing some investigating. She put in a call to a professor at PCU. She wants a geologist’s opinion. With any luck, they’ll have more insight. They’ll know Jim’s plans for Port Charles by this time tomorrow.

Jim says Franco wanted to know, and now he does. Jim tells Franco that he’s been in hell, holding it in all these years. He promised Betsy that he’d never contradict her story, but here he is breaking his promise. I roll my eyes. Franco says, better late than never. Jim says no one else needs to know. Not Drew or his wife.

Michael asks Jason how many pictures his mom took of Josslyn and her date, and Jason says, a lot. Michael remembers dying of embarrassment, but sees things now from a different perspective, and wants to preserve the moments. He’s looked at his baby’s sonogram a million times. By the time his child is one, he’ll have taken the most photos in history. Jason talks about taking a picture of Michael each day when Carly was away. Sam comes in to pick up the kids, and Michael leaves. Sam asks if Jason wants to say goodnight to Danny before she takes him home.

Kim says Drew’s still got moves. She’s seen it before once or twice. It reminded her of a night in a packed bar when, dressed in his Navy blues, he served it up during What a Feeling. Josslyn and Oscar slip out of the dance.

Carly tells Nelle that she doesn’t learn from her mistakes. She lies, manipulates, and it blows up in her face. Then she dos it again. Like the dress charade with Josslyn. She stole the dress from Crimson’s closet, and gave it to Josslyn like it was hers. Nina say she has a four-figure bill coming her way. Nelle says Crimson has a million dresses, and what difference does it make if she took one for Josslyn. Carly says she didn’t do it for Josslyn. It was trashy and pathetic, just like her.

Scotty tells Elizbeth it’s Doc’s fault. If Franco had listened to him, and not let Doc into his head, none of this would have happened. Elizabeth says she encouraged him. He says with all due respect, that was misguided. Now Franco has lost the best thing that would have happened to him because he couldn’t keep a secret. Elizabeth asks what secret, and Scotty backtracks, saying he meant a secret feeling that he couldn’t keep to himself. He asks if she wants him to tell everyone, and she says she’ll do it. They’re her guests.

Jim says he won’t repeat it to anyone, and advises Franco to do the same. Franco says he can’t live with himself if he doesn’t, and Jim says if Drew finds out, he’ll be coming for him. What if Elizabeth learns what he’s capable of doing? What would stop him from sending one of her kids down the stairs. Franco says he’d never harm them. Since the tumor was removed, he’s been able to control his violent impulses. Jim asks if the tumor was there back then. Maybe it just enhanced what’s innate, and he was born bad.

Nina thinks any money Faison left should go to Maxie. Valentin says they’ll make sure she never wants for anything. Nina says it won’t replace her husband. Peter says Maxie has a strong support system, but Nina tells him it won’t bring back Maxie’s husband or her child’s father.

Elizabeth sighs and looks at her ring. She remembers Franco proposing, and we flash back to that. She says, time to call off the wedding.

Jim tells Franco to Imagine the effect on Elizabeth. Every day the nagging doubts wearing her down until she walks away. He doesn’t have to lose her; she doesn’t have to know. Franco asks why he cares. Jim says he’s trying to save him from himself. Franco says, you know what he thinks? He thinks nothing Jim says is true. He doesn’t think it happened that way. He thinks Jim is lying.

Jordan tells Curtis that she’ll let him know what the professor says. She gives him a kiss through the bars, and tells him to stay warm.

Nelle says Nina doesn’t know how to answer a phone. She hardly knows what’s in the closet. Carly is reaching. She’s desperate, and scared. All these years, holding Michael under her thumb, and now it’s going to bite her. She’s going to drive him away, and into Nelle’s arms.

Sam tells Jason he should feel honored that Danny will sleep at his place. He wonders if he should let Danny bring the dog, but Sam says if he does, she’ll never get Danny out.

Oscar and Josslyn go into the walk-in freezer. They kiss, and the lights go out. Everything starts to shake. The freezer door slams shut. We see the Floating Rib, the Quartermaine mansion, all over Port Charles, and how the entire town is shaking. Everyone runs for cover, and dives under things.

On Monday, there goes the neighborhood.

😶 Useless information: I’m pretty sure Nelle’s backstory about possibly killing her fiancé by pulling the plug in his kayak (come on, it even sounds ridiculous), was taken from the real life story of Angelika Graswold. I recently watched an old Dateline or 20/20 that covered the story. Even though Angelika pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, they proved on the show that removing the plug would do virtually nothing.

🍨 MasterChef Junior was back tonight, with the girls cooking filet mignon, and the boys making a chicken dish. As usual, I was hypnotized and amazed by the cooking skills of kids who could be my grandchildren… almost. One kid committed the worst cooking sin ever – raw chicken. I have always cooked the crap out of chicken to avoid this. Eight kids each from both groups were chosen to receive aprons and continue on.

🏰 I missed the first episode of the last season of Once Upon a Time, as well as tonight’s, but hope to catch up On Demand and do a mini-recap. It’s hard to invest when you know it’s going to disappear, poof! in a puff of multi-colored smoke. It was inevitable once they took the Friday death knell spot.

🐹 Some Digression…

🍴 I’m loving Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block (watching it right now On Demand), but I consistently get the two main characters mixed up because the actresses look very much alike. They’re supposed to be sisters, so nothing strange about that, but it got me thinking about Samuel L. Jackson. How did I make that jump? Thanks for asking. Samuel apparently got pretty pissed at a news anchor who mixed him up with Laurence Fishburne, asking if the dude thought all Black people look alike. Well, I know I don’t, but I also mix them up. Because sometimes two people do look alike. I’ve mixed up Robert De Niro and Robert Duvall too. I’ve even confused Glenn Close with Meryl Streep. Does this make me some kind of bigot offshoot who thinks all actors look alike? Sometimes over-sensitivity annoys me.

📡 Quote of the Week

This one is so good, I wanted it to stand alone. The irony is that, from what I see on the internet, some of the very people who claim to follow Dr. King’s teachings, are the ones who don’t heed his words.

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.Martin Luther King, Jr.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Julian approaches Kim and Oscar at the hospital. Kim says she wasn’t expecting to see him there, and he says he wasn’t expecting sewage backup at the restaurant. He’s sorry, but he can’t host the party there. Oscar says he can’t cancel, but Kim tells him Julian has no control over it. Julian says the only people who will be in the pub tonight are from Hazmat. Oscar thinks there’s no way they can find another place in the next two hours. Apparently, he didn’t read my list from yesterday.

The sliding doors in the hospital are so loud, I don’t hear what Anna is saying on the phone as she goes through them. She tells Andre that she has the itinerary confirmed, and thanks him for going with her. Finn sees her, and says they’re supposed to be at the station shortly. It’s not every day someone like him is recognized by the WSB. Anna says before they go, there’s something he should know.

At the station, Jim says Curtis is the guy who broke in. Jordan says that’s an incendiary statement, and Curtis is an associate of the department. Since they have the same last name, Jim asks if they’re related, and Jordan says Curtis is her former brother-in-law. He gripes about nepotism, and asks where the maps came from.

Griff tells Ava that it’s incredible Sonny agreed to let Avery visit. Griff calls her gracious for helping Sonny’s father, but she says he was just confused. Ava was tempted to bail on the wedding, since it’s cutting into her time with Avery, but promised Franco she’d be there. Griff tells her that he knows she’s worried that people won’t see who she really is, but her kindness and generosity show.

Epiphany says Elizabeth looks flawless. She asks if Elizabeth is nervous, but Elizabeth says she’s never been more sure about anything. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Kiki and Felix with champagne.

Franco sees Drew in the hospital stairwell. He asks Drew to wait. They stand in the same position they were in on the stairs as children, and Franco flashes back to that. He nearly passes out. Drew asks what’s wrong, and Franco starts to cry and hyperventilate. Drew tells him to breathe, and asks what happening. Does he have the jitters? Franco says no, he remembers, and blows past Drew. Drew asks, what does he remember?

Cameron tells Doc that Franco’s car isn’t there, and he’s not answering his phone. Doc says he’s probably running late. Cameron says Franco marrying his mom is a big deal. She deserves to be happier than anyone, and he needs to know that.

Felix suggests they get the party started. Epiphany says since Elizabeth refused to let them throw the bachelorette party she deserved, they’re at least having some champagne. Felix says she denied him the night of debauchery he wanted to plan, but she can’t deny him a toast with his best friend. Elizabeth thanks Kiki for supporting the relationship, and helping her decipher what’s in Franco’s brain. Kiki admits she does speak excellent Franco. They toast to Elizabeth’s happiness.

Kim tells Oscar it’s not impossible. Julian says he asked around, but the entire block is affected. Oscar says it’s too late for the MetroCourt ballroom. Kim suggests the park, and says the kids can take turns being DJ, but Oscar says the kids just want to dance. I’m not sure why this is a problem, since they could just hook up an iPod.

At the church, Scotty says, here’s Ava and her gigolo, and Griff is like, what? Scotty asks if he’s her plus one, or is he performing the ceremony? Ava tells him that no one is appreciating his meager attempt at humor, and he says he’ll refrain from the defrocking jokes. Griff leaves to say a prayer before the ceremony. Scotty asks Ava if smoke appears when they get down to business. She tells him to knock it off, and he asks what about fun? Griff has no personality. Ava says he’s wonderful, and Scotty says if she’s happy, he’s happy. Maybe Griff will make an honest woman of her. She hopes so.

Jim says Curtis had copies of his maps printed out from when he broke in. Curtis says he doesn’t know what Jim is talking about. Jim says there were witnesses, and asks Jordan to hold him for questioning. Jordan says she needs hard evidence, and he says he has security footage. He’s friends with the new mayor, and asks if she’s going to do her job or does he have to demand she be fired? Ugh. He’s like one of those people who moves into your neighborhood and tries to take over.

Doc sees Scotty, who asks if he’s going to congratulate the father of the groom or just hate him? Doc asks what gave it away? When he punched Scotty for sleeping with his wife? Scotty says Doc is sleeping with his wife now, and Doc says ex-wife. Scotty heard his son is seeing Doc, and says sometimes things should stay buried. Doc says he can’t discuss patients. Scotty says Franco had a rough childhood, and asks if it ever occurred to Doc why some memories are blocked?

Drew asks Franco what he remembers, and Franco says they were little kids. Drew’s phone rings. He tells Franco to catch his breath. It’s Kim on the phone. She needs to talk to Drew, and he tells her he’s still at the hospital and will be right there. He asks Franco if they’re good and if he’s okay, and goes back upstairs. Franco remembers them being on Betsy’s stairs. Drew is at the bottom, and Franco shakes him and calls his name. We hear a voice saying, what did you do, Bobby? Franco says someone else was there. That sure sounded like Jim’s voice.

Jordan asks Jim if anything was stolen during the alleged break-in. He tells her the maps are proprietary information, and she says anyone at the worksite could have made a copy. She rolls up the maps, and hands them to him. She tells him that if he does press charges, the paperwork and court appearances will be nothing but a headache for him. He says he needs to protect his interests, and it could be corporate sabotage, and what if Curtis sells a map to competitor? Jordan asks for Curtis’s phone, and tells him to delete the pictures. He does, and she says, there you go. Now his company isn’t at risk. She asks Jim how he wants to play it, and he tells her breaking and entering is still a crime; lock him up. She tells Curtis he’s under arrest, and gives him his rights.

Finn says it must be serious for Anna to come there. Anna says it’s nothing; she didn’t mean for it to seem dire. Robert told Mac about them getting the awards. The ceremony isn’t open to the public, and Mac wanted to give them a celebration. He wouldn’t take no for answer. If Finn wants to bring date, they wouldn’t mind, so he can bring Alexis. He says that’s a moot point. He’s not going unless she can think of a reason why he should.

Oscar literally bumps into Finn. He apologizes, saying he was concentrating on finding a venue for their alternative dance. Finn asks, alternative to what, and Oscar explains that the biggest dance at school has a dress code that isn’t gender fluid friendly. Julian had offered Charlie’s, but there’s a situation with a broken sewer pipe. Anna thinks maybe she can help, and Finn tells Oscar that she’s usually two steps ahead of us mortals. Anna calls Mac.

Julian texts Ava, telling Kim that she owes him a few. Kim thanks him for being good to the kids, and he says he’s the one who disappointed them in the first place. She refuses to let him own this one; he’s not responsible for an act of God. He says if that’s what she wants to call it when things come out of nowhere.

Kiki says she’ll check on the groom, and Epiphany goes with her. Elizabeth thanks Felix, who says it’s nothing compared to bachelorette party he wanted. She says there’s a reason she didn’t. She knows her friends had reservations about Franco, and didn’t want to put them in an awkward position. Felix says Franco isn’t his favorite person, but she is, and being a friend doesn’t mean always seeing things the same way. They need to trust each other, even when it doesn’t make sense. He trusts her, and knows there’s good in Franco or she wouldn’t have offered him her heart. He tells her not to cry. Puffy eyes in the photos would be a tragedy.

Jim goes to his office. Franco says, hello, startling Jim, but I figured he was there. Franco says it’s about time he showed up.

Jordan joins Curtis in the interrogation room. Curtis says Jim is gone, she can let him go, but she says witnesses just saw her arrest him. She asks what he was thinking. He says they can’t find Betsy, and she wonders how that’s related to Charles Street. He says the maps have nothing to do with the construction. She asks him to tell her what’s going on.

Drew sees Kim, who tells him that he’s off the hook. There’s no dance tonight; the venue fell through. Drew glares at Julian, who says it’s out of his hands. He’s going to be cleaning up sewage in the kitchen. Drew says it’s a shame; Oscar was looking forward to it. Julian always finds a way to let people down. At this point, I borderline don’t like Drew very much. Julian leaves to make more calls. Kim tells Drew that was a little harsh, and Drew says, trust him, Julian deserves it. She doesn’t know their history, but says he was just trying to help. Drew apologizes, saying he’s in a bad mood. He had a run in with Franco on the stairs, and he was even weirder than usual. Kim says he’s getting married; maybe he’s just nervous. Drew says maybe he’s reading too much into it, but he and Franco were raised as brothers when they were kids. He was sent to a state home, and doesn’t know why. The only person who can help is Franco’s mother, but she disappeared. He asks her if he ever talked about his childhood when they were together, and she says he kind of lived in the moment. Neither one of them reminisced. She knew he grew up in a group home, but he only wanted to talk about certain things.

Doc tells Scotty that he can’t confirm or deny Franco is his patient, but that being said, he would never press a patient to endanger their mental health. Scotty says if anything Doc says or does causes Franco to snap, he’s going to hold him personally responsible. Epiphany comes out, and asks if they’ve seen the groom.

Jim says Franco almost gave him a heart attack. Franco wanted to see him, and he’s always here. Jim says no wonder it’s a match made in heaven. Last night Elizabeth was lying in wait, asking him about tracking down Franco’s mother. Franco says that’s not why he’s here. Jim says he knows Franco doesn’t remember him, but thinks Betsy would kill him if didn’t get to the church on time. He’s calling his car service. Franco says no one is going anywhere until Jim tells him why Betsy sent Drew away.

Kim tells Drew that he was fine talking about high school, and things like track and detention, but when it came to family, he didn’t want to talk about it. It’s understandable, and maybe if they’d had more time, he would have opened up. Drew says, but they didn’t and here they are. Oscar runs up to them, and says he found a new venue.

Finn tells Anna the ceremony was a little surreal. She says if you stay long enough at the WSB, they recognize you in one way or another. He says for him it was a one-shot deal. She tells him that his contribution was invaluable. Cassandra had to be stopped, and she couldn’t have done it without him. He thanks her for saving him from the party, and says the kids will enjoy it more than him. He hates bullies. She says that’s why they make a good team, at least in the eyes of the bureau. Andre calls, and Anna tells him to meet her at seven.

Elizabeth asks if Cameron is nervous. He says all that matters to Jake is that Franco will be part of the family, and Aiden only knows it’s a big party. He’s glad she found someone to love her and put her first, which is a very mature statement for a kid. She tells him to find Aiden before his brother starts playing Frisbee with the ring pillow. She tells Felix that Cameron is so grown up, and they wonder where the time went. She wishes Sabrrrina could be there. She didn’t judge Elizabeth for being with Franco, and would be happy for them. Felix says what she loved even more than them is weddings. Elizabeth can honor her by having an amazing time. Elizabeth thinks back to exchanging I love yous with Franco.

Jim tells Franco that he doesn’t know why Betsy gave Andy away. Franco says Betsy didn’t tell him that; she told him Drew was dead. Jim says he doesn’t know why she misled them, but they were at each other’s throats, and Franco could get rough. Franco says he remembers.

Curtis tells Jordan that he knows a thing or two about thing or two. One of the maps has the Charles Street acquisitions, and the other is the earth under the properties. There’s no reason to explore that deep just to build condos. Jim has other plans for Charles Street, and is after whatever is underneath. Eterna? (One Life to Live fans will understand that reference.)

Kiki sees Ava. Griff comes out and tells Ava that he said a prayer for Elizabeth and Franco, and one for her too – for gratitude that Sonny is letting Avery spend time with her. He says God works in mysterious ways, and wanders off to do whatever ex-priests do at church. Kiki says he doesn’t know she made a deal with the devil to get Avery for the night. Ava says she dropped the charges, and it was Sonny’s decision, but he should have done it straight away without her asking. Kiki says she blackmailed him, and Ava says she did what any mother would do. Kiki says, no, she did what she would do.

Anna talks to Andre about going to the airport together. Finn asks if they’re going on a trip. She says it isn’t anything, and he says she doesn’t owe him any explanation. He tells her to have a nice trip and leave.

Oscar tells Kim that the Floating Rib had been closed for a private party, but Anna talked to them and the kids can use it. Kim tells him to make sure to give Mac and Felicia a proper thank you. Julian says he’ll help bring the decorations over, and leaves with Oscar. Kim tells Drew he’s back on the hook. She’s sorry she couldn’t be more help. She can’t imagine how frustrating it must be, trying to remember. He says too bad he can’t trust the only person who might anything.

Epiphany tells Elizabeth not to put her dress on. Franco hasn’t shown up yet.

Franco tells Jim that ever since he was told he pushed Drew down a flight of stairs, he’s been trying to remember. Jim says maybe that’s why he was sent away. Franco suggests Jim tell him what he remembers, but Jim insists he doesn’t remember anything. Whatever happened was after he was out of the picture.

Franco flashes back to shaking Drew at the bottom of the stairs. He hears, look what you did, Bobby. Jim stands on the stairs.

Franco tells Jim that he’s lying. He was there.

Jordan asks Curtis what he thinks Jim’s plans are, but he doesn’t know. He already suspected it’s politically motivated. Niagara Equities would have lost a fortune if Ned didn’t win. Jordan is going to call Alexis and get Curtis out, but he has another idea. He’s already behind bars, so Jim thinks he’s in the clear. Jordan says, so he might make a mistake. Curtis says he’s not in a position to catch Jim making one, but she is.

Franco says he’s been working hard to try and remember what happened that night. Now he knows what Jim knows. Jim gets flustered, and says he doesn’t know what happened to Andy, let alone him being pushed. Franco says he’s lying. He was there. He remembers what happened, and no one is leaving until he hears Jim say it.

Tomorrow, Nelle asks if Michael is suggesting they give the baby to his mom, Elizabeth says the wedding is off, and Lulu thinks the alternative dance should have some exposure.

🎣 The contestants on Top Chef did some fishing in Aspen, having to first catch the meal they were going to cook. The dishes looked so good, I almost couldn’t stand it, but they were nothing in comparison to what was created for the chefs and connoisseurs attending the Food & Wine Classic. And they had to cook for two hundred people. Last Chance Kitchen Joe went on to the finale, along with Adrienne, and Mustache Joe had to pack his knives and go. He was still pleased he ended up in third place, and thought maybe he’d do even better. I agree. Just ask Jennifer Hudson. Next week – the finale.
