What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Kiki swills champagne, sitting on the empty stage. Michael says looks like he missed it. She thinks it’s still raging on somewhere.

Ava and Griff get back to his room. She talks about how great Epiphany sounded. He says she’s no slouch herself, but wishes he could say same for her song selection. How can she turn a charity event into a weapon?

Sam encourages Spinelli to hack into the hospital computer. Maxie comes out, and collapses.

Lulu asks if Dante will be home soon. He tells her about Robert taking Valentin into custody. In the interrogation room Robert tells Valentin some people mellow with age, but not him. He has Valentin up against the wall, when Dante walks in and asks for a word with Robert.

Nina brings Charlotte for a sleepover at Lulu’s.

Robert tells Dante it’s a WSB matter and stay out of it. Dante says he still can’t violate civil rights. Valentin wants to drug and kidnap Anna like he did with him. Finn asks what’s going on, and Robert says Anna is waking into a trap.

Peter asks Anna if this is what it’s come to. A WSB agent pretending to be an abandoned boy’s mommy to flush him out. Anna says he needs to understand something, but he says, no he doesn’t. He tells her that she can say hello to his father for him.

Sam and Spinelli visit Maxie’s room. She wanted to see her son in person. She shows them the tablet, saying he was early, but has ten fingers and toes. She says it happened so fast. One second, she was on the road, and the next, she was on the side of the road giving birth. It’s lucky Peter was there to help. Sam asks if she knows where he is. Maxie says he was supposed to meet her there, but never showed up.

Lulu tells Charlotte that it’s an amazing surprise. She goes upstairs with Charlotte, and Nina remembers Valentin saying Faison was impossible to stop, and how he wanted to get to the airport. She flashes back to asking him if he wanted to get away, so when it blew up, no one would know his part in it. Lulu asks what’s going on. Nina asks where Dante is, and Lulu says at the station. She thinks it’s going to be a late night. She asks if Nina’s drop-in has something to do with that. Nina says her husband has been keeping a secret for a long time. He knows who Henrik is, and always did.

Robert says there’s no time for niceties. Dante says he can’t beat a confession out of Valentin, and he’ll just come up with something else. He suggests Robert make a deal. Robert says Valentin knew Henrik’s identity since birth. Finn joins them, and says, who cares? They need to save Anna. Robert says he’ll take care of it, and sends Finn his number. He wants Finn to go to the hospital to see if Anna was admitted with a bullet wound courtesy of Faison.

Jason tells Peter to drop the gun. Peter tells Jason to drop his, or he swears he’ll kill Anna. Jason shoots the gun out of Peter’s hand, and Peter falls. Jason tells Anna that he and Sam figured it out because Peter had Faison’s lighter. Anna tells Jason to put the gun down, but Jason says he doesn’t think so. Anna says Peter is unarmed, and not a threat. Jason says he was hiding in plain sight. Anna gets that he wants revenge, but Jason says he’s containing a threat; she’s too close. He says, let’s go, and Anna draws her gun on him.

Maxie asks about the rest of Ball. Spinelli says he didn’t make it to the stage, but not because of her. Maxie asks if Obrecht stole his spotlight, then remembers she has to tell Obrecht about the baby. Sam tells her to take it easy, and Maxie says with everyone watching her, she doesn’t have a choice.

Nina says, another secret. Valentin has known from the start. Lulu asks if he told her what Henrik’s alias is, and Nina asks if it matters. Lulu thinks it might help them understand. Nina says it was worth more than their marriage, and worth more than her brother’s life. Lulu says she’s sorry, and Nina says, so is she. She would be sorrier if he’d whisked them away on the open-ended trip he’d planned. He’s in custody now, but when he notices they’re not home, this is the first place he’ll come.

Robert wants to know everything about Henrik. Who he is, where he is, and how to contact him. Valentin asks what the charges are, but Robert doesn’t know yet. Valentin says unless Robert has something against him, he’ll press the issue with his attorneys. The longer it takes, the longer Anna is in danger.

Ava can’t believe Griff called her performance a weapon. She was supposed to sing something sweet and sentimental, and her performance was anything but. She says the show was flagging, and she made a decision to get the attention back on the stage. Griff says it was a slap in the face to Sonny and his family, and anyone who’d thought she was a changed woman – like him and Kiki.

Sam tells Spinelli that she’s meeting Jason at the pier, and tells him to stay with Maxie. He blocks the elevator, and says he can’t let her go. Finn overhears, and jets.

Anna tells Jason to let him go, but Jason says he can’t. She says, please, because she’s not sure she won’t hit an artery, but she will if she has to. He asks why she’s protecting him. Anna tells Peter that she’s his real mother. Peter tells her to drop the act, but she says, it’s the truth. Peter babbles, and Jason tells him to shut up. He says it makes sense now. She says she couldn’t tell anyone; she was afraid it would play out like this. Teary-eyed, she begs Jason to let him go. He’s her son.

Spinelli says he can’t let Sam in harm’s way; Jason can handle himself. She tells Spinelli that she’s strong, placing her hand on his neck in the Vulcan death grip position. She asks if he wants to try her. He steps aside, and tells her to be careful.

Robert says if Valentin thinks he’s going to let him out. He drugged Robert, and kept him prisoner while Henrik played his deadly game. Valentin says the sooner he’s out, the sooner he can help Anna. Robert says the Bureau won’t press any charges regarding his association with Henrik – providing the caliber of the information gets Anna back safely. Dante says Valentin won’t have any leverage if Anna is dead, and asks who is Henrik Faison?

Ava knows Griff is disappointed that she’s yet to rise to his high moral standard, and achieve sainthood. He says he’d settle for human decency. Her song was a slap in the face to Sonny. Ava says she sang it for him. He asks what she wants, and she says, three simple words. All he had to do was tell her he loved her, but he can’t do that. He’s lost interest because she’s no longer in need of rescuing, but Kiki is.

Kiki asks Michael if he’s on California time; the Ball was hours ago. He says he was with Nelle, and she says she heard about Nelle’s fall. She’s sorry, and asks how Nelle and the baby are. He says the baby wasn’t harmed, and Nelle will make a full recovery. He wonders why Kiki is alone in the empty ballroom. She says she doesn’t want to go home. She doesn’t want to lie awake, dreading tomorrow.

Dante calls Lulu, and asks if she’s okay. Lulu says Nina is there with Charlotte, but Valentin had wanted to take them on an extended trip after the Ball. Dante asks if Peter has contacted her, but he hasn’t. He tells her to make sure Nina stays put; he’s coming home. He says Valentin is at the station, and he’ll explain when he gets there. Nina’s phone rings. It’s Spinelli. He tells her that she needs to get to GH. Maxie had her baby. Both mother and child are in good condition.

Anna gives Peter information on his birth, saying the midwife’s daughter can confirm it. She thought he was being given to a loving couple, and only found out a few months ago that someone else put his in Faison’s hands. Peter says she’s lying. She says she wanted to tell him about Faison having Huntington’s disease, and that he could be a carrier. It was the least she could do as a mother. She lied to everyone she loves, and can’t lie anymore. Finn arrives, and hears her say, you’re my son.

Jason gets why Anna wants to save Peter, but says she can’t. He helped Lulu to lure Faison back, because he knew Jason was there and would kill him. And he did. Anna and Jason argue, and she says he’s her child. Finn walks out, and tells them to both put their guns down.

Dante remembers Lulu saying that Peter encourages her, and him telling her to stay out of it. He flashes back to him saying that Peter might think her life is an acceptable risk to take, but he doesn’t. He arrives home, and Lulu asks what’s going on. She tells him Nina is at the hospital; Maxie had her baby. He tells her that Henrik’s alias has been under their noses the whole time. He’s Peter August.

Griff asks where Ava is getting this from. She says she saw him with her daughter backstage in the dressing room. He says he was comforting her, and Ava asks if that’s what he calls it. Griff says Kiki was upset, and he was helping her because she’s Ava’s daughter. Ava says, not because she’s a damsel in distress looking for a knight in shining armor? Now that Ava is standing on her own and moving on, he’s not interested. How does she know how he feels if he doesn’t say it. He asks her if he should really say how he feels or what she wants to hear? One is a lie, and he’ll come up short with the other. What does she want? Ava says she wants more than he’s capable of giving.

Robert asks Valentin where Henrik is. Valentin says he claimed he was going to deal with Anna himself. Robert can’t believe Valentin didn’t warn her. Valentin says he was out of options, and Robert says he had two – choose Faison’s son or Anna. Robert gets a text from Finn: Pier 55 911.

Anna tells Finn to get out, but he says he’s not going anywhere. Robert is on his way, most likely with the PCPD. He’s no expert, but thinks it’s not the best idea for them to have guns pointing at each other when they arrive. Sam shows up, and Peter says, another guest; it’s a party. With his gun pointed at Peter’s head, Jason says he has to finish it. If he doesn’t, Peter will betray her and probably kill her. Anna says it’s the chance she’s taking; he’s her son. Peter says she’s not his mother; just a bitch who gave birth to him. Ouch.

Nina sees Maxie, who says the baby is a boy. Spinelli adds that he’s premature, but healthy. Nina says she has a nephew; baby Jay. Maxie shows her the webcam, and Nina says, he’s beautiful. She’s sorry she wasn’t there, and says so much for birthing classes. Maxie says Peter never attend one, but delivered the baby like a pro.

Lulu says Peter can’t be Henrik, but Dante tells her Valentin said he is. She says Valentin lies about everything to everyone. Dante asks her what if Faison wasn’t coming to Crimson to find Maxie, but coming to Aurora to find Henrik? Maxie was just in the wrong place at the wrong time; so was Nathan. Lulu says she’s been trusting him, and working with him, and he’s been leading her around by the nose. Dante says he knew something was up with Valentin, but didn’t think this. Lulu wonders why Henrik would stay in Port Charles, then says, Maxie.

Kiki tells Michael, at first it was little things, like a misunderstood comment or a hug that didn’t need to happen. Then things happened away from the hospital. She thought it wasn’t that serious, Michael says he’s on the hospital board. If she’s being harassed at work, it’s serious. She makes him promise not say anything. She forgot he’s on the board, and told him in confidence as a friend. She’s just going to stay out of David’s way, and hope it blows over.

Mixed signals but clear how feels or more acut how he doesn’t doing them both a favor never make her feel how deserve never long time life short why wait she may not be perfct but wroth of love nd he can’t give it to her she says goodbye

Sergeant Murray tells Valentin that he’s supposed to wait for Robert’s instructions. He’s going to the pier to apprehend Henrik Faison aka Peter August. Valentin asks if there’s anything to hold him on. Murray admits there isn’t, and Valentin says by detaining him, they’re in breach of his civil rights. He regrets it will fall on Murray. He thinks they can agree the law is on his side. They have to release him.

Sam tells Jason not to do it; there are too many witnesses. Finn suggests Anna get the ball rolling by putting her gun down first. Peter suggests Finn leave things to the professionals. He says Jason will never let him live, unless Anna kills him first. He tells Jason to look in Anna’s eyes. She’s ready to kill him while Sam watches, unless Jason kills him first.

We hear sirens. Anna and Jason stand frozen, but then both of them put their guns down. Robert tells them he’s taking Peter aka Henrik into custody. He picks up Peter’s gun, and a cop starts to read Peter his rights. Robert says, don’t bother. He’s property of the WSB, and they don’t worry about such niceties. He says they’ll need a statement from Jason. There’s a nice cell waiting in Steinmaur for Henrik. Peter/Henrik is taken away. Everyone leaves, except Anna, Jason, and Finn. Jason approaches Anna, but she tells him, another time. He says he’s sorry, and she says, so is she. He leaves. She tells Finn that she never wanted anyone to know, and she’s made a mess of everything.

Ava knocks on Griff’s door, but there’s no answer. She apologizes for what she said, telling him she was wrong to walk away; please give her another chance. There’s still no answer, and she leaves.

Kiki is still drinking, and Griff asks if this seat is taken. She says it’s all his, and he sits.

Nina can’t believe Peter delivered the baby on the side of the road. Maxie thinks she should honor him for being a great friend and being there. Spinelli says there must be cards for that, but Maxie says what about giving the baby the middle name of Peter. Spinelli says it’s something to consider. Nina’s phone rings, and she steps out into the hallway.

Lulu tells Dante that Maxie relies on Peter, and thinks he’s a friend. They have to tell her. Charlotte comes out, and says she wants to say goodnight to her papa. Dante doesn’t think they can reach him, and Lulu says she’ll read Charlotte a story, taking her back to bed. Dante calls Nina, and asks about Maxie. Nina says Maxie is good, and the baby is a boy. He’s in the incubator, but his prognosis is good. Dante says he has news that won’t be easy to hear – Peter is Henrik Faison, and Valentin knew the whole time. Nina says she’ll have to call him back.

Dante opens the front door, and Valentin is standing there. He says he’s here for his wife and daughter.

Anna tells Finn it could have ended badly, like a Shakespeare play. All the principals have killed each other, and only the footman is left to say how tragic it is. Finn has a new appreciation for footmen. Anna says she doesn’t blame Jason. She told herself that she’d hidden the past, but the truth will come out. Now she’s left with the truth about her son and her. Finn walks toward her. He wipes a tear from her cheek, and holds her. She cries in his arms.

Tomorrow, Kiki and Griff drink together, Finn urges Anna to go to her son, and Peter wants to press charges against Jason.

The Haves and the Have Nots

The drug dealer tells Wyatt that this isn’t a game he plays. Wyatt says he has the money; something is wrong. The dealer thinks Wyatt doesn’t have it. He’s tried five times. The dealer thinks he’s playing games. That thing, meaning the ATM, is saying he has no money. Wyatt says he has millions, but the dealer doesn’t give a damn. He wants his money and wants it now. Wyatt says he’ll call the bank. The dealer says he’s not into waiting, but Wyatt says he’ll pay double. The dealer tells him to get on the damn phone.

Wyatt calls the bank. Infuriating on a good day, Wyatt goes through the usual rigmarole to get through to a live person. He’s told his account has a zero balance; it looks like the money was withdrawn this morning. Wyatt says he didn’t withdraw it, and the rep asks if he’s saying it’s fraud. He says it is, and he has to pay someone now. She tells him he has to come to the bank and file a claim. He says it’s in another country. The dealer says, that’s it; he’s dead. Wyatt asks to make one more call. The dealer says if the money isn’t there by the time he’s off the phone, Wyatt is dead.

Kathryn suggests, as the new supervisor, Hanna hire more people. Hanna agrees. Kathryn wants to do something big. She wants Hanna to know how much she’s appreciated. Hanna says Kathryn already doubled her salary, and she’s glad to be back. It helps keep her mind off that girl. Kathryn asks how she’s holding up, and Hanna says she’s living there. Jim comes out, and notes that Hanna is working there. He says it’s good to see her, and she says, thank, since she’s obviously not so glad to see him. Kathryn asks her to make up the guest room; Jim smells like a whore. Jim says she was good, which is Hanna’s cue to make an exit, saying she’ll get right on the guest room. Kathryn’s phone rings, but she ignores it. She ask why Jim keeps bringing whores to her hotel. Next time he brings a little tart there, they’ll have more than just a small problem. He hates to break the news to her, but he’s bringing a little tart there tonight, who happens to hold the key to making her case disappear. Her phone keeps ringing, and Jim tells her to answer it. He goes to freshen up.

It’s Wyatt. He tells Kathryn that he needs money. She says she’s not giving him money for drugs. He says a guy is going to kill him. When Jim poured the drugs down the sink, he needed more, and this guy is going to kill him. Kathryn says no one is going to kill him, and asks where he is. He says he’ll text the address.

Jim calls the DA’s assistant, and says he wants her tight little ass at the hotel at 8 pm, same room. Kathryn tells him that Wyatt is in trouble. He owes drug dealers money, and if he doesn’t pay up, they’ll kill him. He’s freaking out. Kathryn asks if Jim thinks they’ll hurt Wyatt, and Jim says, no. They’ll take him out for milk and cookies. What does she think? He tries calling Wyatt’s phone, but there’s no answer. He makes a call for a line trace

Wyatt tells the dealer that she’s coming. The dealer asks if it’s a joke, and Wyatt says he needs the address. The dealer asks if he’s giving it to the police, and Wyatt says, no; it’s his mom. The dealer cracks him in the head, and he falls.

The captain tells Justin that his mother keeps calling. Justin says he doesn’t have time. The captain says he was asked if he’s working Justin too hard, and tells him to step in the office. He says, it’s not good, and shows him the video. He says all the officers know; they brought it to his attention. It’s not his business at all. Justin says it’s not what it looks like. The captain doesn’t care. He just wants to be sure Justin has this under control. Justin says he does, and the captain tells him to call his mother. The captain tells him this kind of thing changes lives. Justin needs to make sure the people in his life are okay. If they’re okay, he has a chance to be okay. If not, he’ll make enemies. He tells Justin again to call his mother, call his wife, do something. He says it’s a small town, a small courtroom, and a small world.

Candace calls the bank to make a transfer. It can’t be completed, so she presses zero to talk to a representative. She explains that she’s trying to transfer money from her business account, but it won’t work. The rep says the funds aren’t available. Candace says they were wired, and should be. What’s the hold up? The rep says it’s some sort of federal hold. Candace gets a number to call. Landon answers, and he asks how she is. She says what the hell is going on? He says someone is watching after her big time. She asks if he froze her money. Landon says he wants to see her, and it’s not her money. She threatens to go to the press. Landon says that wouldn’t be smart, and Candace tells him to try her. She hangs up.

Pearl goes to see Justin. He says he’s busy, but she doesn’t buy it, and tells him he needs to talk to her. They go into the captain’s office. She says she saw the tape of him in a hotel room with a man. Justin claims he was working undercover, but Pearl says he wasn’t. She already talked to the captain. She asks what was he doing in that room? He says he’s not talking, and she tells him not to do this to her. She asks if it’s like when he was a little boy, and she was called to the school when he was caught in the locker room. Justin says he didn’t do anything then, and didn’t do anything now. Pearl says, yes, he did. She’s not stupid. He was caught with that colored boy in a compromising position, and she doesn’t like it at all. She asks what he has to say for himself, and he says, nothing. She has something to say then. He’s out of the will. His wife is in shambles. He’s embarrassed the family, and can’t come to the house until he apologizes to his wife and family. Justin says he understands. She tells him to look at how he’s ruined his life, and leaves.

In Hanna’s kitchen, Benny says he doesn’t know Melissa, and she says she doesn’t know him either. He says she’s living in his house. She says she’s been in situations like this before, and didn’t like it. He says he didn’t put her there. She knows he didn’t, and tells him to go to hell. Benny asks why she’s talking to him like that, and tells her to try being nice. She’s a complete stranger, living with them. She tells him tp go where he was going, and he says he gets it. She’s one of those who likes to pick a fight with a dude; a drama queen. She tells him it was good, and says he wants her right now. Benny is saved by the doorbell. He jets, and she tells him, come back here.

It’s Mitch. Benny has a problem; the girl is still there. His mother saw them, and told her she could stay there. Mitch laughs, and Benny says, she’s loony. Mitch knows. He tells Benny, let’s get the truck. Melissa comes out and says, hi, and they can’t get out fast enough.

Derek comes up the walk, carrying a bouquet of lilies, as Hanna is leaving work. He swears he’s not stalking her. Kathryn told him be there at six to check the sprinklers. Hanna says she’s pushing it. Derek says he’s sorry; she’s pushing hard. He doesn’t really mind though. He likes her. She says they just met, and he gives her the flowers. She asks if he just happened to have flowers, and he says he was going to drop them off. Hanna wonders if Kathryn told him that she likes lilies too. Derek says, since he’s there, would she like to get coffee? She says she has to start dinner for her son, but he’s welcome to come. He asks what took her so long? She tells him to meet her at her house.

Justin tells Jeffrey he’s free to go. Again? Jeffrey sits there, and Justin says, really. Jeffrey asks if he’s bullsh*tting. Justin says someone likes him; he made bail. He cuffs Jeffrey, takes him to the interrogation room, and uncuffs him. Justin tells Jeffrey that he got an apartment for them. He knows Jeffrey has nowhere to go. Jeffrey says he’s not living in a place with him, and Justin says he doesn’t want to live there alone. Jeffrey tells Justin to take him back, but he really is free to go. His dad is waiting outside. Justin asks for Jeffrey to please come to him tonight.

Jeffrey sees David, who says Jeffrey can stay at his condo until he finds a place of his own.

At David’s place, Erika comes out naked when she hears him come in. She apologizes, but David says he should have called. He introduces his son, Jeffrey, who says, hi, naked stranger. David explains he’s giving Jeffrey the keys for his condo. Erika leaves to get dressed, and Jeffrey asks who the young lady is. David says he’s been seeing her. He would have told Jeffrey sooner, but he was preoccupied with getting him out. Jeffrey asks if David likes her. David says, yes, and Jeffrey says he can see it. He’s never seen him smile like that; not with mom. David says that’s over. Jeffrey says Veronica came to see him. She wanted him to say Benny killed Quincy. David asks if he did, and Jeffrey says, no, but she wanted him to say it to get him off. He considered it, but it would be wrong. David thinks Veronica had a personal agenda. She doesn’t do anything unless it benefits her. He doesn’t care for Benny, but feels sorry for him. It’s like a rabbit playing in a lake with a water moccasin. He thinks he can get Jeffrey off, and tells him not to worry about Veronica. Jeffrey asks if she knows about his girlfriend, and David says she does. Jeffrey tells him to be careful, and his girlfriend should be careful too. David insists they’re fine.

Erika calls Candace. She thinks she’s been made. Jeffrey is here. She’s not sure he saw her face; she was naked, waiting for David. When he walked in, he ran into the other room. Candace says he either saw her or didn’t; get off her phone. David comes in, and tells Erika it’s fine. She says she’s embarrassed; he’ll think the worst of her. David says he didn’t see her face and he’s gay. Erika says she feels better, but still… David wants her to meet him, and she makes him promise not any time soon. He says he’ll delay the meeting as long as possible. Erika doesn’t know if she can look him in the eye. They kiss.

Candace calls Veronica, and says Jeffrey saw Erika; their plan could be blown. Veronica suggests he might not remember meeting her, and Candace says, right. He doesn’t usually look at girls. She tells Veronica they need to talk about the plan with David. She needs a federal judge. The money is frozen, and she needs it to be released. Veronica asks if she means the money they opened the Cryer account for, and wonders why it’s being held. Candace says, long story. Veronica tells her that she’s wasting her time, and hangs up.

Justin’s wife asks to talk to him, and they go into a different interrogation room. She gives him divorce papers, and he signs them. She says, just like that. He tells her that he’s sorry, and she says, no explanation? He says if he had one, he’d give it to her. She’s surprised he signed everything without even thinking, and he says he knew it was coming. She asks if he wanted it to come, but he doesn’t know. She thinks he did, and he apologizes again. She asks if Justin loves him, and says she hopes it was worth it. He’s thrown away their lives, and hurt his family; it’s all on him. She tells him the second document he signed is a restraining order. She doesn’t want him anywhere near her. He can have everything, since she wants no memories of him. He asks what about his daughter. She says he’s never seeing her again. He signed that right away too. He threw them and their lives away for that man. She hopes it was worth it. When she’s gone, he cries.

Veronica talks to a judge. He says he heard about her divorce, and he’s sorry. He tells her how good she looks, and she says she can’t let it show. He asks if she remembers that time…  and she pretends to be coy. She says he’s always been kind to her, and she has a problem. Her future daughter-in-law is pregnant. She’s unfit and unstable, and Veronica is worried about her grandbaby. The girl is a hazard to herself and the child. She hands him papers from the hospital, saying she tried to commit suicide. For the sake of this child, Veronica thinks she should be committed. She wants him to let her know what he thinks, but it might be the best thing for her and the child to be in a facility with a padded room. He asks if it’s that serious. She says, it is, and she has a video of the girl threatening her. He says he’ll send a representative from the court to evaluate her. He says he can do it today, and she thanks him.

Jim tells Kathryn, nothing yet; he’s still working on the trace. She doesn’t know what to do, and he says that makes two of them. She says at least they got the money back. Jim says he still has to verify that.

Wyatt holds his head. The dealer asks if he thinks he can come in here and steal from him? Wyatt says he just needs the address. The dealer punches him. Wyatt stumbles to the bar, breaks a bottle, and stabs the dealer in the throat with it.

Next time, Jim sees Wyatt, Mitch tells Benny that he can’t help him, and Justin insists he’s not gay.

Below Deck Mediterranean

I still can’t get all the new names straight.

Primary guest Nichelle says yesterday was a day of concerns, and it took away from them having a good time. Nichelle is going to communicate their concerns, and intrudes on Captain Sandy on the bridge. She says the preference sheets are being ignored; she said, no starch. She also makes several other complaints about the food, and thought Hannah seemed frustrated. She’s not having a good time. Her fab friends expect quality service, and shouldn’t have to pour their own glass, which has happened several times. The captain says she’ll have a chat to them, and apologizes, adding that they’ll turn it around.

The deckhands work on knots. Kasey is still sick, and wants off the boat. Nichelle tells her fab friends that Captain Sandy said their concerns will be addressed.

Captain Sandy tells Adam the bowl thing bothered the guests, and they said the preference sheets were being ignored. Adam says, lies. He told them pasta was coming, and we flash back to him telling the group about the spaghetti he’s making, and Nichelle being psyched for it. In her interview, Captain Sandy says she doesn’t want to squelch Adam’s spirit. She tells him to make it work. The captain talks to Hannah next, who says the disgusting treatment she was being given might have transferred to her face.

Conrad says Joao hates that he’s only twenty-three. In his interview, Joao says he likes to challenge authority. Hannah tells the guests that she didn’t mean to be rude or disrespectful. Nichelle didn’t have fun yesterday, but the apology is accepted. The guests are taking a day trip to Capri, but it’s getting cloudy. Hannah sends Kasey to land with them. Kasay says Capri is beautiful, but the best part is that she’s on land.

The guests go to a restaurant. Joao and Kasey wander around. He finds out she hasn’t had sex in eight years. She thinks it should be sacred instead of just wanting to get off. She was waiting for marriage, and thought it was going to happen, but walked in on him with another girl. Joao says, shut the front door; oh, wait, she has.

Brook tells Hannah her boyfriend isn’t being supportive. He’s having a hard time with her being away, and she thinks it’s over before it started. Hannah thinks he should be more understanding. The brewing storm arrives. Captain Sandy says the Med is beautiful, but the storms come up quickly. Lightning strikes, and Hannah ducks.

Kasey says Joao won’t let it go; it’s a roadblock for him. He wants to have sex with her, but he can’t. Rain is pouring down, and the crew on the boat are running around, covering things and tying things down. Kasey chows down on shore, since she hasn’t eaten in a while. Joao calls the boat, and tells them they’re stuck for the moment. The dumpy, angry-looking redhead who I’ve dubbed Idiot gets all annoyed about the weather. She insists they’re at the wrong dock, but they’re not, and she gets even more pissed when she has to come back after stomping off.

Hannah thanks God for Brooke, since she’s on top of things. While in the tender, Idiot says the downdraft is coming quick, and gives orders on how they should proceed. On the bridge, Captain Sandy keeps repeating, I don’t want to have dinner with them. Kasey was hoping to feel better once she got back on the boat, but not so much. Joao relays Kasey’s sex life (or lack thereof) information to the other deckhands. I‘m sure she’ll appreciate that.

Idiot says she requested a strawberry cake with marshmallow icing for Nichelle’s birthday. Hannah looks at the preference sheet, and there’s no mention of a cake whatsoever. Hannah tells Adam that she can tell them too bad, or they can pull it out of their backsides. He wonders if the guests had their secretaries write out their preference sheets. He needs to make up for the dud meal, so he’s going to do some pulling.

Hannah models her black dress uniform for Captain Sandy. The darts are reminiscent of Madonna’s torpedo bra, and the captain says it must be a design flaw. Hannah says she’s not wearing this for service. Kasey is sick again, and Hannah asks Jamie to help pick up the slack. Adam says he wants the captain to know the cake wasn’t on the preference sheet. The table is decorated with fresh purple and yellow flowers. Everyone is given masks (the kind that just go over your eyes), including the captain. Jamie is annoyed about being pulled for interior, because she’s a deckhand.

Everyone is happy with the lobster bisque appetizer, except for one guest – henceforth called Cray-Cray – who doesn’t like seafood. Hannah confers with her on what she can eat, since it’s lobster and crab for the entrée. Cray-Cray says she doesn’t really like seafood. In the galley, Hannah sees that her preference sheet says she likes shellfish. Adam says it’s like a baby in high chair, who’s been given a Cheerio and a Cheez-It, and knocks them onto the floor because they want applesauce. The captain entertains the guests with seafaring stories. Cray-Cray is given duck as an entrée. She doesn’t like duck, and wonders why everyone got lobster and she didn’t. Adam says, wtf does she eat? Captain Sandy asks if she likes shrimp, but that’s a no. She’s so weird. Either she’s incredibly unconfident or drunk, because she seems confused about her own likes and dislikes, and is constantly playing with her hair and touching her face. Nichelle says she likes lobster, but without the crab. So what was wrong with the bisque? The captain asks why she said she didn’t like seafood, and Hannah confirms that’s what she said. The captain asks for the preference sheet. Adam says it’s like shoving a dog’s poop at them to show them what they did.

Sandy brings out the preference sheet. In her interview, she says she can see the guests are impossible, and she’s going to defend her crew. She shows Cray-Cray that it says she doesn’t like eggs, and likes shellfish. Cray-Cray says yes, she does like shellfish. Everyone raves about the dinner. Captain Sandy is like, I enjoyed it, thanks, I’m outta here. The cake comes out, and is proclaimed beautiful. Nichelle says it was a magical night. Hannah tells us she’s on her 19th hour, and wants to go to bed.

Conrad has never seen anyone as seasick as Kasey. He tells the captain that he thinks she needs to get off the boat. The captain says they’re gong to get her to a doctor. She also has to wake Hannah up early. Nichelle asks if she can have prawns for breakfast. Brooke cries in the bathroom. Adam makes lovely prawns, and says it’s the breakfast of champions.

Colin interrupts Conrad while he’s trying to give instructions. In his interview, Conrad says when he was in his first year, he thought he knew everything too, but he didn’t. Captain Sandy says there’s little room in Naples for docking. Conrad says it’s his place to shine, and show everyone he knows his sh*t, but he’s crapping himself. The captain announces it was a successful first docking, and says, well done.

Brooke tells Kasey to let her know what land is like, and bring her back a feather. In her interview, Hannah is hoping the doctor keeps her. It’s time for the guest’s departure, which I’m sure is good news for the crew. Nichelle tells the captain it was a rocky start, since they’re used to perfection. To be helpful, she says they should pay more attention to detail on the preference sheets. Hannah and Adam can barely contain their laughter. Nichelle says the rest was spot-on, and they did a good job compromising. Hannah wishes Nichelle would STFU and walk down the dock.

At the crew meeting, Captain Sandy says in the history of charters, these were the toughest clients. They were down a team member, but pulled it together. Kasey comes back, and says she’s getting nausea pills. The captain starts with Adam, who did follow the preference sheets, but takes guests being a-holes personally. In her interview, Captain Sandy thinks Adam and Hannah need a reset. The tip is $12K/$1000 each. Colin says it could feed a family in Zimbabwe for two months. He’s learned to appreciate the value of money.

The crew gets ready to go out. Kasey would rather stay behind, but wants them to know the girl behind the seasickness. Brooke and Colin talk. They get some food, and the drinking commences. They move on to a bar. Brooke is weepy, and Hannah asks to talk to her in the bathroom. Brooke tells Hannah that her boyfriend broke up with her. Hannah says it’s only been three days; screw him. If he can’t take it at this point, he needs to go back to his life. They decide to go back out and drink some more. Joao flirts with Kasey. When Brooke comes back out, he dances with her. Conrad sits with Hannah. In her interview, she says flirting with him is like being in high school, and not because he recently graduated. Everyone goofs around on the bus back. Joao says it’s like a pissing match with the hierarchy in yachting, and he’s not having it. He gets abusive with Hannah, who tells him not to speak to a chief stew like that. She tells him to sit down, and Adam tells him to STFU.

Next time, a birthday interrupted, Joao remembers nothing, the new primary is a friend of Captain Sandy, and Conrad tells Joao not to question him.

💰 This week, on Sell It Like Serhant, Ryan helped Jill, a struggling formal dress saleswoman. She spent twenty years in law, while she raised her son, but was never happy. Ryan deduced that her major problem was her initial connection with the customer. She wasn’t getting to know her customer quickly, and had walled herself in at home. He sent in a ringer to see how she worked, and took her to speed dating, which taught her how to be engaging and ask questions. She learned how to start with a compliment and address customer concerns. She had only sold five dresses in a month, but after spending a week with Ryan, sold five dresses worth over $5K in a single day at a trunk show. The boss had only asked for a goal of three, and Jill got to keep her job. Ryan felt the wisdom he’d passed along would make her happier as a whole. Next time, a commercial real estate agent who’s too modest.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Robert drags Valentin off the stage. Valentin suggests they discuss it like adults. Robert says they’ll do that, and cuffs him. Robin asks if Robert is okay; he looks terrible. He says he’s fine, and throws Valentin up against the wall in the hallway. Valentin says there’s an explanation, but Robert says he wants justice. He asks about Henrik.

Spinelli goes to Peter’s office. Sam tells Spinelli that Peter is Henrik.

Anna goes to the pier. She calls out for Henrik, but we know he’s busy delivering a baby. She asks where he is.

Maxie tells Peter there’s no time to go to the hospital. The baby is coming now. Peter calls for an ambulance, and takes her hand. He tells them it’s not an accident; it’s a baby.

At the Ball, Lucy says to give a hearty welcome to Port Charles’s own man of mystery, Robert Scorpio. Then says she’ll be right back. Mike remembers the Nurses’ Ball being crazy, but what was that? Sonny says Valentin just got arrested. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Robert says first Valentin poisons him, and then imprisons him. Valentin says it was just a diversion. Robert tells Valentin that he knows Valentin took Anna’s child and gave it to Faison.

Lying by the side of the road, Maxie asks Peter if he’s okay. He says he’s fine, and she asks him to help her breathe.

Spinelli types furiously, and says, voila! Henrik’s inbox. He looks for any emails regarding the manuscript.

Felix tells Kiki that her couture is liberating her bosom. Kiki thinks someone backstage can fix it.

Sonny asks Dante what’s going on with Robert. Dante tells him that Robert said he had it under control.

Stella asks if Sonny has seen his father. Mike gets up on stage, and takes the mic. (Mike takes the mic.) He says a lot of people know him, but he might not remember them. He’s Mike Corbin, and has Alzheimer’s. That’s one thing he can’t forget. Sonny starts to get up, but Stella stops him. Mike says he might not remember much, but he remembers that the event means a lot to his son. He tells everyone that the show must go on, and starts to sing Frank Sinatra’s Summer Wind, as a random pianist accompanies him. He puts on a fedora, and an orchestra appears behind him. He suddenly forgets the lyrics, and begins to cry. He was ripping my heart out with just the song, and now he’s stomping on it.

Sonny goes to the stage, and tell the accompanist to continue playing. Sonny help Mike through the rest of the song, and they receive a standing ovation.

Ava says, great, she has to follow that, but Griff says she’ll be wonderful. She tells him from his lips to God’s ears. She leaves to change. Bobbie tells Sonny and Mike that they make a great team. Mike says they should take their act on the road, and Sonny says, maybe they will. Drew tells Sonny it was a helluva thing to do for his dad. Sonny appreciates that.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s reminding herself of the things she loves while she’s in excruciating pain. She tells him that he has to look at the baby, and tell her what he sees – go! He looks, and says the head is coming. She says she’s going to push the baby, and asks if he’s ready. He says, as he’ll ever be. He tells her it’s coming, and she can do this.

Backstage, Kiki gives Amy her dress and thanks her. Amy says it will just take a second. David walks in while Kiki is in her underwear. She asks what he’s doing there. Griff follows him in.

Olivia gives Cook 2 a bouquet of roses, saying she saved the Nurses’ Ball. Cook wouldn’t go that far, but Olivia says she would. The guests were raving about the food; it was nothing short of a miracle. Cook says the staff was competent, and the kitchen was well-stocked, but she should tell the chef to have more seasonal offerings. Olivia says she’ll pass it along, unless… Cook says, unless what? Olivia says unless she’s interested in taking over as house chef of the MetroCourt.

Sam reads an email from Henrik’s mother, saying they should meet. Jason says Anna cut him off. She planned on posing as Henrik’s mother, and Lulu was going to orchestrate something to draw him out, with Jason as back-up. Spinelli wonders why Anna wouldn’t want protection, and Jason says Anna refuses to believe Henrik is a threat.

Anna thinks about Robert telling her that she can’t tell Henrik that she’s his mother. At worst, he could destroy everything they love. Robert says he must never know, and she promises not to tell him. Anna walks around the pier.

Maxie howls and pushes. Peter says, that’s it, and we hear a baby cry, Maxie says, we did it. Peter says, she did it; she was amazing. He wraps his jacket around the baby, saying he’s dressing him for his debut, and hands him to Maxie, telling her, Maxie Jones, meet your son. They laugh, and I think, that baby is pretty big for a newborn.

Olivia says she loves Chef David; he’s done fantastic work, but she thinks Cook is a true artist. Her talent is wasted working in a private home, even if it’s the Quartermaines. Cook says, and with her gone, Olivia will get to have the kitchen all to herself. Olivia swears she wasn’t thinking of that. Cook asks if she’s going to keep her end of the bargain, and never set foot in the Quartermaine kitchen again. Olivia says she took an oath on her favorite skillet, and she’s not breaking that. She just thinks Cook has more to offer the world. Cook says Olivia is right. She does.

David tells Griff that he was looking for the men’s room. Really? He couldn’t do better than that? Griff says it’s down hall; there’s a sign on the door. David says he’s obliged, and leaves. Griff asks if Kiki is okay. She says she’s fine, but starts crying. She tell him that she’s stressed, but don’t tell anyone. Griff holds her while she cries, and Ava sees them.

Robert says Valentin knows all about Henrik; who he is and where to find him. Valentin says he has Anna walking into a trap. They have to find her before it’s too late. Nina has walked in, and listens.

Mike says it’s Sonny’s first time on stage since the Christmas pageant. Sonny says his dad is the star; he’s just the backup. Lucy comes back in another fabulous dress, red satin, with one shoulder, and tied at the waist on the opposite side. She introduces a woman of mystery – the less you know, the better. Ava sings You Don’t Own Me, with male backup dancers in tuxes. She looks pointedly at Griff and Sonny throughout the song. Nice. Bobbie and Sonny scowl. Scotty claps wildly. Griff looks serious.

Bobbie tells Scotty that she’s not sitting with him after he got on his feet to applaud the woman who destroyed her grandson. She’s not ignoring what Ava has inflicted on her family. Scotty says, it’s the Nurses’ Ball. They’re not supposed to be holding grudges. Bobbie says it doesn’t count with this one.

Lucy tells Sonny the only reason she let Ava perform was because she made a substantial donation, and it wasn’t the number she rehearsed. Sonny says the night is too important to let someone like Ava ruin it. Ava asks if Griff enjoyed her performance. Kiki tells her the audience loved it. Griff says it wasn’t the song she rehearsed. Ava says she had some last minute inspiration, and she owes it to them.

Kim gets a text that Maxie is on her way to the hospital. She has to go, but the nearest car is twenty minutes away. Drew offers her a ride.

Valentin swears on his family that he’s telling the truth. Robin comes out, and asks if everything is okay. Robert says everything is fine. She looks at Valentin, and says, there’s that, and Robert looks like he was run over by a steamroller; so forgive her if she doesn’t believe him. Robert asks where her mother is. Robin says she got a message, and she took off. She asks if Anna is in trouble, and Robert says, not if he can help it. He leaves with Robin. Valentin is cuffed and sitting in a chair. Nina says she can’t stress the importance of honesty right now. How long has he known who Henrik is?

Olivia says, the Hotel Elysium? In Rome? Cook asks if she can believe it, and Olivia says, no. What are the odds a recruiter was here on the one night she filled in? Cook says, crazy, right? But she couldn’t have done it without Olivia. She tells Olivia to keep the flowers; she has to pack and write her resignation letter. Olivia says Monica is going to kill her. Cook says, probably, but the bright side is she gets to have the kitchen all to herself.

The EMTs come, and Peter tells her that he’ll see her at the hospital. Maxie says her parents are out of town, and asks Peter to call Spinelli from her phone in the car. He tells her to take care of the baby, and he’ll take care of everything else.

Jason says there’s no way Anna would leave the Ball unless it was important. She’s meeting with Henrik. Sam says they have to tell her that he’s Peter. Spinelli’s phone rings. The call is coming from Maxie’s phone, and Spinelli asks if everything is okay. Peter says it’s him; Maxie asked him to call. She’s fine, and so is the baby. She’s on her way to GH, and she asked him to tell Spinelli to reach out to her parents. Spinelli says, on her way? He asks if she didn’t have the baby there. Peter says it’s a long story, and she’ll want to tell him herself; he’s got to go. Spinelli asks how is it that Peter is spreading the glad tidings? Peter says he delivered the baby, adding, goodnight, Mr. Spinelli. He hangs up, and Spinelli says, unbeknownst to Maxie, Nathan’s brother delivered her baby.

Peter takes a gun out of the glove compartment.

Anna waits. She thinks about Jason telling her it’s too dangerous. She’s way too close to this.

Nina tells Valentin, yes or no. If he’d spoken up sooner, would her brother still be alive? He knew who Henrik was, but tells her it’s impossible to say if his silence changed anything. Faison was on a collision course with both of his sons. He doesn’t think anything would have stopped it. Nina says she believes him. He says they have to get to the airport. Nina says he wanted to take them away, so when things blew up, no one would know his part in it.

Anna says it’s past midnight; he’s not coming. She hears someone, and says, Henrik? When she sees Peter come down the stairs, she says, Peter, but he says she was right the first time, calling her mom.

Maxie asks Kim how the baby is. Kim says a little underweight, but it’s to be expected. Otherwise, he’s in great shape. Maxie wants to be with her baby. Kim has an idea.

Sam wonders what the hell the deal is with Maxie’s baby. Jason needs Spinelli to look at the email again. He tells him to look for anything indicating a meeting with Anna.

Lucy says another fab, wonderful Nurses’ Ball is coming to an end. She thanks Olay, and I appreciate the product placement not being as heavy as other years. She thanks the performers, support staff, and crew who made magic happen. She thanks the guests, saying they broke the record; they’ve raised more money than ever. Since it’s the nurses’ night, they wanted to end it the way they started. Deanna, Epiphany, Bobbie, Felix, and Amy sing I’ll Be Your Champion. The other nurses join them. Nice harmony.

Ava thanks Kiki, who has an early day at the hospital. Ava says Griff has a room there, which is convenient. She leaves with Griff, and David tells Kiki that he’ll see her bright and early.

Valentin tells Nina that whatever she thinks is going on, there’s more to the story. She knows. He says he’ll explain, but she doesn’t know if she’ll believe him. Robert takes him away.

Kim tells Maxie that she can’t bring the baby in, but she has the next best thing. She shows Maxie her tablet, and says they have a webcam set up for virtual visits. Maxie says, he’s so wrinkly and tiny. Kim says she did great, and Maxie says, except for her water breaking in Peter’s car.

Spinelli tells Jason and Sam that the message was sent at 9:57 pm this evening. Midnight. Pier 55. Come alone. Jason wonders if he was going to the hospital, but Spinelli says Peter told him that Maxie was on her way. Sam says she’ll go to the hospital, and Jason says he’ll go to the pier.

Peter tells Anna so this is what the WSB has resorted to; posing as an abandoned boy’s mother to flush him out. He doesn’t know whether to be offended or embarrassed. Anna says there’s something he needs to understand, but he says no, he doesn’t. He takes out a gun.

Tomorrow, Nelle wants to go home, Nina talks to Lulu, and Anna tells Jason to put the gun down.

Vanderpump Rules

Andy wants to talk about the surprising friendship of Jax and James. He asks how Jax went from wanting to punch James in the face to finding him amusing. We see a clip from the last reunion with James making fun of Jax, and Jax laughing. Lisa says they’re similar in the choices they make, and Tom says they’re both needy and compulsive. We see clips of them together, and Andy asks if Jax is a role model for James. Jax admits he shouldn’t be a role model for anyone, and James says they have fun. Lala says she was skeptical; they all know what happened with Jax saying James hooked up with Kristen. She didn’t see how they could be bros after all this time. Andy says she’s done it with a lot of people. James tells Lala to shut up, but Lala isn’t having it. Scheana says Lala is friends with everyone now, but wasn’t for a long time.

Andy asks Stassi about how the event planning started. Stassi says she wanted to be like Lisa, a boss-ass bitch. She wants to be well-rounded, and Lisa knows how to do everything. Andy asks if she was being bossy, but Stassi says she was scared to piss people off, and tried to treat everyone with as much respect as possible. Tom says it’s frustrating because Stassi quit, and then was handed a position of power. He thinks she should have been forced to be a server again. This is just about the stupidest argument for anything I’ve heard from one of them. Lisa didn’t need her as a server; she needed and event planner and had worked with Stassi as a stylist before. Stassi says they should be a team, and wonders why it affects Tom. Lisa says it’s what Stassi wanted to do, and she had a position to fill. Thank you, and thank you. Andy asks about Lala’s event, and Lala says Stassi was her bitch. Scheana tries to interrupt, and Lala asks if she can get a word out. Lala says, this chick, meaning Stassi, shows up an hour before she needed to, and she’s going to give credit where credit is due. Stassi made her job easy, and made the ambiance killer. We flash back to that.

Andy switches gears, and asks if it was about the pasta. We flash back to James using the catch phrase of the season. James says it was partly about the pasta. He was pissed off about it, and drank too quickly. We see a clip of him toasting to getting drunk. Lala says they were all drinking, and he and Logan started having a conversation that went south. He was her boy, and she defended him through thick and thin. James sneezes without covering his mouth, and everyone is like, wtf? Lala says she was joking, and it turned into him calling her man names and discrediting him; it was disgusting. We flash back. Lisa says James shouldn’t drink, and suggests he not even have a sniff of a sherry trifle. Lala suddenly jets off the stage, and Andy asks what’s wrong. Brittany says she could tell Lala was getting mad. James calls Lala dramatic.

Lala goes to the bathroom. Lisa starts talking, and Kristen interrupts. Lisa tells her to shut up, and I laugh. Lisa says James needs to understand Lala was loyal to him. She’d even said if he went down, she would too. She tells him that he needs to go out on a limb and apologize. Kristen follows Lala into bathroom. Lala says it’s not okay for James to say stuff like that. On stage, Tom says, dude… and James gets up. Tom tells James not to roll his eyes, and Andy says he just did. James says it’s just a nervous reaction, and Tom tells him to try harder. Ariana decides to get the other girls, and tosses her heels, since she can’t really walk in them. Lisa says they can’t all just leave, but then she goes too. Scheana pulls out her phone and gets sucked into the iVoid.

Lisa tells Lala to come back; James is going to apologize. She tells Lala that she’s a strong girl. Lisa asks if she’s upset because of everything or is it the place where she’s at? Lala says it’s what he did to her, and Lisa says tell him then. They come back out, and Lisa tells James and Lala to figure it out. Andy asks why Lala left, and Lala dabs at her eyes. Lisa changes places with Stassi, so she can sit next to Lala, and tells her to say it. Lala says James was her best friend. She would never tear him down, or his girl, and it felt like he really came for her. We flash back to James being nasty. She says she’s always been supportive of James and Raquel. Lisa asks why stick by him, and Lala says he’s a hurt person. Lisa thinks it’s coming from a place of jealousy; he’s always had feelings for her. Kristen says this is how he treats the people he cares about. Andy points out that Kristen and James were together for years. Jax thinks James is like a little boy, pushing a girl he secretly likes.

The trip to Big Bear is discussed, and James flirting with Lala in front of Raquel. We flash back to that. James says he loves Raquel, and Lala says he should have been flirting with her. In the past, James made her feel comfortable and confident, but things changed. She was sitting with her man – henceforth known as Randall, since they’re out now – praying that it wasn’t going to air. She doesn’t feel safe around him anymore. Andy asks James if he would get with Lala if she was available, and James says he’d still be with Raquel. Lala seconds that. Andy asks what it would take for them to be friends again. They’re in agreement on time. Lala reminds James of when they went for people about their physical appearance last year, and says she was mortified to see it. We flash back to them body shaming castmates in their interviews. Lala was hoping he’d learn from that with her, and he didn’t. She says the reason she stuck around is that he didn’t have the upbringing. He took on burdens someone his age shouldn’t have had to. But someone she adores might not shake it off as easily. James gets it and apologizes, promising to never say anything like that again. Lala forgives him, and Andy says, nice.

Andy asks Jax about the marketing position in Florida. Jax says it was marketing and social media. Andy points out Jax had said there was nothing holding him back from taking it. Jax says it’s not like he had an amazing job. Andy is like, um, you have a girlfriend who moved to LA for you. Brittany says he didn’t think about her. Lisa says he didn’t even ask her. Jax says he wouldn’t have gone without her, and it was misread. Lisa thinks he has a deeper appreciation for Brittany now. Andy asks him if he can say what Brittany’s professional passion is, and he stumbles around until he kinda, sorta gets that she wants to work with special needs children. He makes excuses for why he didn’t know this information about the person who is supposed to be closest to him that he lives with. Andy suggests that him wanting such a big change might have had to do with Schwartz and Tom moving on. Stassi says she can’t believe they took him seriously about the Florida job, and asks if anyone else saw it. Jax says he’s not making up, and Brittany says she heard him talking on the phone. Yeah, but did she hear anyone on the other end? Stassi says he’s always been the boy who cried wolf. Schwartz says it’s an annual thing with Jax. Andy asks why he didn’t take it, even though it was his dream job> Jax says he was scared, and Schwartz tells him to admit he loves LA as much as he’s said he hates it.

The finale party with Patrick is brought up. Stassi says she couldn’t sleep; she was so shook from the party energy. Andy asks Lisa how surprised she was when Patrick continually talked about her backside. Lisa says it was wrong on so many levels. They’d just met, and he was saying it in front of someone who works for her and is his girlfriend. We flash back to this obnoxious twit, calling Lisa girl several times, which irritated me the most of all of his detestable ranting. Stassi says she felt so bad, and reminds everyone that she was on Xanax and alcohol. Lisa said Stassi was apologizing to him, and was trying to make him feel welcome. She thinks Stassi finally had enough.

Andy asks if Scheana lost herself in the relationship with Rob even more than Stassi did with Patrick. Scheana says she hasn’t seen all the episodes, and admits to fast-forwarding through her castmates’ scenes. She claims she’s just behind in watching. Jax says watching it back, he wanted to punch Patrick, and Stassi should forget him. He says new boyfriend Beau is cool, and we see pictures. Everyone agrees they like him. Stassi says he’s fun, and not screwing up. Lisa tells her to just be herself.

Next up is the trip to Mexico. Andy asks Lala about her baby bottle. She says she’s on a low dose of anti-anxiety medication, and there are various things you can do, like snapping a rubber band on your wrist. She finds it comforting to have a bubba. It helps her not think about her anxiety.

Andy follows that with the rumor about James and Kristen hooking up. James says they were hanging out, and it turned into they fooled around and hooked up. Jax admits they didn’t, but says he didn’t say anything. We flash back to him saying something. He claims he only said the pillows were evidence. Lisa says he went all Secret Squirrel, and claimed they were banging. Kristen says James’s words were on the screen. Tom says there was a reason for that, but Andy says he heard it clearly without the subtitles. He says Schwartz had no idea what was going on, since he blacked out and went to another resort. Schwartz asks who doesn’t black out in Mexico? That would be Andy and everyone else. Andy asks if Jax doesn’t owe Kristen and James an apology, and in keeping with his tradition of being the worst human being on earth, Jax asks why? Lisa says he nearly ruined two relationships. Kirsten says she had to tell Carter before he saw it on TV. Brittany tells him he should apologize, and he does – for misinterpreting what was said. Tom apologizes too, since he thought the same thing. Andy talks about James telling Kristen that he never said it, and her throwing a drink in his face. She says her brain exploded, and she apologized to James. She says for Tom to go to her boyfriend was wrong. Tom says her boyfriend came to him. Kristen says Tom told him about what happened during their time together. He says he wasn’t trying to ruin the relationship; Carter came to him. Something I noticed from James’s unintelligible answer on the golf course, was that he said, a little bit, but not really, when he thought Tom asked if he and Kristen were hanging out. If they’d hooked up, that would be a pretty odd thing to say, even for James.

Andy says Jax lost it when he found out Scheana was trying to hook Brittany up with Adam – in his home. His rant at SUR is discussed. Jax says he decided to flip everyone off, and just then, Lisa and Ken walk in. He says Lisa’s eyes were bulging, and she says he was absolutely out of order. She had to get him out of there. Andy asks what he was thinking as he was storming down the street. Tom says it was like something got knocked loose. He exploded. Tom says he went back out, and Jax adds that the people across the street were watching. Tom says Jax was unstoppable, and Brittany says, like a bull seeing red. Jax says he was embarrassed, and went on a super apology tour the next day. Lisa says what about her? He says she and Ken have been nothing but amazing. She says she’s kept him in his job for years, and he says it’s a helluva thing to do.

Andy wants to talk about the break-up. Jax says he thought about it for a while, and went back and forth. Brittany says he’d bragged about them having sex that morning. The girls concur that it was hard to watch. Brittany was blindsided. Stassi says the sex thing made it really, really bad. Ugh! I agree. Jax says he honestly thought he was doing the right thing, and someone asks, why hook up then. We flash back to Jax saying why does anybody hook up? And answering his own question by saying, to get off. Andy says it’s kind of a mind f**k, and Brittany says it literally came out of nowhere. She couldn’t believe it, after she’d planned Mexico, his birthday at Hooters, and his birthday some other damn where. Jax thought it was the mature, adult thing to do, and Brittany says, beg her to stay with him, then throw it away? He says he thought he couldn’t be good for her. I wonder if his so-called Reiki master put that idea in his head, or just confirmed it? Lisa thinks those in unpredictable relationships should use contraception, and offers to buy Jax a condom. Andy asks how Brittany feels, when even Jennifer Lawrence is telling her to break up with him? Brittany says the first thing in her mind was to get out, since Jax wouldn’t leave. She told the Uber driver to pick a hotel. She’d put up with so much, and then for everyone to see that it was hard and effed up. She wouldn’t talk to Jax for a month. The girls all say she’s a badass. Andy says Jax wouldn’t leave the apartment? Tom said he was like, wtf? Brittany says she never hooked up with anyone, but seems a little vague about dating. She talks about staying in a hotel, and going back when Jax wasn’t there. She also did some traveling. Jax didn’t give up, and the feeling didn’t go away. She realized he’s the person she wants to be with. The pressure of fans wanting more for her was the hardest part. She’s tried to be a good person and live a positive life. She would never say mean things to someone she didn’t know. But in the end, she did what she thought was right, and put her heart first. Not that she thinks it’s okay to be treated the way she was. Andy asks other girls about that, and it’s unanimous that Brittany deserves a prince. I think Brittany should do Brittany, but I also still think Jax is vile. We’ll see if his father’s death changes him. Possible, but not probable.

Andy says what brought everyone together was the untimely, unfortunate passing of Jax’s dad. Kristen says he had to be vulnerable and honest, and stop fronting. Jax says he was tired of himself. Andy asks if he treats Brittany better. Jax doesn’t think he would do wrong again, and he’s been putting her first. Brittany says everything is better. Jax tells her that he loves her. She says he’s more calm, and not talking down to her. Andy thinks his papa would be happy that Jax has found peace and happiness, and hopes it sticks.

Andy asks Lisa why she wouldn’t fire Jax. She says he would have taken on the victim role, saying he deserved it. The only decent thing was for him to resign. Andy asks if she can imagine him working at SUR. Jax quickly interjects that he’d pick up a shift if she really needed him. Lisa says she isn’t that desperate right now. Jax insists he wasn’t a bad person at work. He says maybe he can get a job at TomTom. Andy asks Schwartz when TomTom is going to have its first blackout and panic attack. Schwartz says he’s like a caterpillar who is going to emerge as a beautiful business butterfly.

The question of kids for Schwartz and Katie comes up, and Katie asks, who would want that? That would be everyone, and Katie says, soonish. Andy can’t wait to find out what Stassi’s new boyfriend thinks about Lisa’s ass, and asks if we’ll be seeing him next season. That’s a yes, but not so much Lala’s boyfriend. Jax hopes he and Brittany are together the rest of their lives, and Brittany ays it just keeps getting better. Kristen is happy with two dogs and boyfriend. Scheana claims she’s having fun being single, and is staying that way for a year. Andy says it’s been a big year for Lala, including stepping out in public with her man. He asks what the goal is, and she hopes to be together forever. Andy asks if Ariana has softened toward marriage, but that’s a no. However, that’s not stopping them from also wanting to be together forever. Andy asks what about kids, and Ariana votes no, while Tom is all thumbs up.

Andy asks again if it’s about the pasta, and says, yes, it is. He asks Lisa who’s next in line to get married, and she says, him. Lisa says she loves all of them. Being on a reality show is like looking in a mirror. They might not always like the reflection, but she hopes they grow from it. Andy says usually Ken and Peter bring out celebratory shots at the end, but this time, it’s not about the shots. Giggy! Ken totes the Gigster in, while Peter passes out “shots” of pasta. With no forks. It’s interesting to see the different ways they try to eat it. James suggests they chase the pasta with vodka, and they all say, cheers! Giggy!

Next time – Vanderpump Rules: Secrets Revealed.

😱 The Terror wrapped its first season up tonight. The highlight was when Mr. Hickey offered his cut-off tongue to the spirit bear, and it ate his arm and ripped him in half. That didn’t work. I only half-assed watched this show, and hope to pay more attention if there’s a season two. The scenery was a standout, and I would think the desolation alone would be enough to make anyone go mad. Although I found it intriguing, it did remind me of seeing Jaws 2, or Jaws 3, or whatever installment it was, with my father. He leaned over and said, where’s the music and the shark?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Fear the Walking Dead

Zombies clamor to get into a store while a dude shops. He leaves the back way, because zombies aren’t the brightest things. He stops suddenly, and we hear John tell him, that’s right. John has a gun pointed at him. John says he saw his flag and knows who he is, and they have a particular person in common. John holsters his weapon, but says he’s quicker than dude on his worst day. He’ll attempt to shoot him in the hand, but there are no guarantees he’ll walk away – or walk away alive. He can keep his hands raised, answer one question, and live. He keeps hands raised and turns. John shows him a Vulture flag. Morgan tells dude not to be stupid; John will beat him. He tries to draw his gun anyway, and John shoots his pinky finger off. John throws him the flag to wrap his hand in. Dude asks what he wants. John says, answers.

Alicia asks if Al rigged her truck herself. Al knows where she’s going, and says her guns aren’t for hire and her bullets aren’t for sale. Alicia asks, why not? Al says she stays behind the camera. How about if they stick to their deal; a ride for their story. She’s heard some of it, but she wants it all. Alicia tells her to ask what she wants, as long as gets them there.

John wants to know where dude and the Vultures are meeting up. Dude says he’s not with whoever John thinks. John pats him down and finds a map. He says he’s seen before, from a guy in an El Camino. John asks, what happened to her? He says dude is carrying Naomi’s gun. Dude says he doesn’t know, and John shoves his gun in dude’s face. Morgan tells John to let him go. Morgan tells dude there are people headed there who want to kill him, and to steer clear. John tells Morgan to hold on to the pistols for the time being –  just in case. Morgan says he knows it’s hard. Does he know where they’re taking them? Morgan says they’ll find them, stop them, and ask what he needs to know abut Naomi. He wants to know she didn’t suffer.

Before

Naomi picks shards of something out of Alicia’s arm, and asks what she found. Alicia says a few canned hams and a lot of dead. She goes to cleaned up, and Madison thanks Naomi. Naomi asks if they’re going out tomorrow, and Madison says there’s not much choice – no matter how dangerous it is.

Victor asks Nick what new and exciting locale are they going to? Nick says they’re going to find a place with seeds and fertilizer. Lucy asks where the truck with the food came from, and Victor says, in a garage. Someone must have loaded it to make an escape, but never made it. Cole says he’s going to get ammo, and Victor follows him, thanking him for the cover. Cole says Victor saved him time by showing him who he really was before he thought Victor was someone else. Victor asks why not tell them, but Cole says he’s just not sure what Victor would do if he did. Cole leaves, and Madison asks if everything is okay. Victor says people are getting irritable because there isn’t enough food. Madison shows him a liquor bottle, and says she found it in the back of the pantry. Does he want to – he doesn’t let her finish before he says, yes.

The Vultures hang in the parking lot, while Richard Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung plays over their loudspeakers. Victor says, they don’t give up easy, and Madison says, no, they don’t. Victor asks why she saved him after what he did. She says she wasn’t going to leave him drown. He says she didn’t just pull him out. She nursed him back to health. She could have saved him and left, but she waited for him after everything; why? She says she knows who he is, and she likes drinking with him.

Madison finds Viv holding a gun on Naomi, who was trying to drive out. Naomi says she can explain, and Madison tells her that she doesn’t need to sneak out. She says she wasn’t leaving; she was going here. She hands Madison a pamphlet. She says they might have seeds and food, military rations. She used to be there. Victor asks if there are still people; people who know her. She shakes her head, and Madison asks why she didn’t tell them. Naomi says it’s dangerous. She didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Madison and Victor decide to go with her. Luci tells Nick that they’ll be back.

Naomi speeds along the highway. A sign says, food – gas – lodging, and Madison suggests they park for the night. Victor says they need all three things. They park at a motel, and Madison says, let’s clear it. They go into the office. It’s dark, but we hear zombie noises, and Madison knifes a couple in the head. She sees some guns and canned beans. She says, they killed each other over some cans of beans. Victor shows up with some vending machine food, and they take a break to eat. I wonder why the bean killers didn’t raid the vending machine.

Naomi says Madison and Victor have been a lot of places together, and Madison says it was a long trip from Mexico. She’d started from LA, and it seems like a lifetime ago. Victor asks where they’re going tomorrow, and Naomi says, an abandoned FEMA shelter. Madison asks what happened, and Victor wonders how she knows supplies are still there. Naomi says it was abandoned a long time ago, and no one knows about it. Victor says, except for her. Naomi confesses that she was going to go on her own, but she intended on leaving the map after the gate was closed. Madison asks, why? and Victor says, because she’s a coward. Naomi says, he’s right; she’s a coward. He tells her to hand over the keys. Now she won’t leave because she can’t. Naomi says she didn’t have to tell them, and Victor thanks her for showing them who she is. Madison says it does count for something, and suggests they get some rest.

Madison wakes. Naomi isn’t there, and she tells Victor to wake up.

Naomi is on the road again. She stops at a school. She heads inside, stepping on the FEMA Checkpoint sign. The door is locked, and she knocks on the glass to get the zombies’ attention. She sneaks inside behind them. This is about as much help as you get from FEMA when there isn’t an apocalypse.

Madison thinks maybe they can catch up with Naomi. She wonders why not tell the truth if she wanted to leave. They all have things to be ashamed of, but can take the opportunity to make up for it. Victor admits that the truck with the food was his contingency plan; he’d been stocking it for weeks. People don’t change, and when they’re pressed and cornered, the artifice falls and the curtain flops. They show you who they really are. Madison asks if she should have left him to drown, and Victor says that’s what he would have done. She tells him, lucky for him she’s not him.

Naomi looks around. She comes to a room for children. She sees a crib, small furniture, and kids’ artwork. She tries to keep a grip. She goes to a storage bin, and opens the combination lock on it. There are guns and medical supplies inside. She looks through a notebook that has planting information in it. She finds keys with a tag that says JIC on them. She packs some stuff in her knapsack, and quietly walks behind the throng of zombies at the front. If just one sees her, she’s screwed. She sees a closed door, and freaks a little. She sits down on the floor, even though now is not the time. Uh-oh, here they come. She jumps up, and jets right past them. Good thing they don’t move like those guys in 28 Days Later. She runs smack into an impaled zombie, and now there are zombies on either side of her. By her reactions, I think she knows them. She starts to climb some scaffolding, kicking them away. Now she’s stuck, the crowd beneath her, reaching up. She cries.

Madison and Victor come into the school. Naomi says the truck is at the loading dock. It has what they need. She tosses the keys to Madison, and says Victor was right. Victor says they can’t get to her. He uncovers some rope, while kicking back a zombie. Madison pikes the zombies at the bottom of the scaffolding. Victor says he’s got her; she can do it. Naomi pulls herself back up, and grabs onto the rope. She pulls herself across toward Victor. He slips, and there’s suddenly too much slack in the rope, but he recovers quickly. Madison comes to help him. It’s pretty creepy looking down from Naomi’s vantage point, with all the zombies reaching toward her and moving underneath. She makes it to the other platform, and the three of them run out. Victor padlocks the door.

Naomi tells them that she needed try to make up for what she did. It needed to be her in there; not anyone else. They’re good people. She thought she could be safe there with her daughter. Madison says she doesn’t have to tell them. She owes them nothing. Naomi says her name was Rose. When Rose’s father died, Naomi wore it wouldn’t happen to them. She found a place with food, water, and people who knew how to survive. A woman named Ellen taught her how to make it. She gave JIC classes to be prepared – just in case.

One night, Rose’s cough turned into pneumonia. They didn’t have the antibiotics needed, so Naomi hid Rose in the pantry and locked the door. The antibiotic run took three days. She didn’t eat or sleep, but she found the amoxicillin. By time got back… Naomi breaks down. Madison says it wasn’t her fault. They wouldn’t have been able to keep that many out, even if she was there. Naomi tells Madison that she didn’t tell anyone the truth. She was afraid they’d get kicked out; she’d seen it happen at other places. Rose died before she got back, and turned. Then, everyone else did too. She did this. Madison says she didn’t have to come back, but Naomi says it had to be her. She couldn’t run from it any longer. Maybe some can find way to live with it, but she needs to keep what they have going.

They leave. Naomi says the truck is prepped, in case anything went wrong. They were prepared for everything, just not this. A zombie is flailing around in the truck, and I wonder if it’s Ellen. Madison knocks on the driver’s window, and while the zombie is preoccupied with that, Naomi stabs it in the head from behind. Victor says she did what she had to do; what life seemed to be telling her to do. He did too, but Madison taught him something else; that they can start over. They all can. We see a plant growing out of one of the fertilizer bags.

Alicia, Luci, and Nick walks out to where Mel is. He asks if there’s a problem, but they just want him to listen. He might want to make room. They have food, supplies, and fertilizer; they’re going to rebuild and replant. The Vultures have picked over a fifty-mile radius; they must be running low too. Mel tells the group to pack up, and let’s go. They’re going to take longer than they can wait. Madison drives up with truck full of stuff, and Naomi in the car behind her. Mel tells her to be careful. In his experience, the really the really bad stuff, you never see it coming. They drive in, and the Vultures leave.

Luci asks if it’s enough, and Nick says it is. Madison looks at the JIC keys, and puts them on the dashboard. Cole says he didn’t think they’d pull it off, and Victor says, neither did he. Madison knows him better than he knows himself. He might have been premature in telling Cole who he is.

Victor thanks Madison. She says they won today, and he was a big part of it. He suggests they leave it at that. Madison looks out with the binoculars. It’s all clear in the parking lot. Alicia comes out, and Madison wants her to do something, no questions asked. She tells her to park a truck out back with supplies in it, and keep it quiet. No one needs to know. Alicia asks why, and Madison says, just in case. She gives her the keys, and I wonder who’s highlighting Alicia’s hair.

Now

Standing next to the road, Alicia sees a truck with the binoculars. Victor and Luci arm themselves. Alicia says, they’re coming. Victor asks, how many, and Alicia says, one. Morgan and John get out of the truck. Morgan says they came to talk, and Alicia tells them to get on the ground.  Victor asks what they’re doing there, and Morgan says they came to help. He says, they’re not coming. They found them, and told them to stay away. Alicia says, bad idea, and Morgan says, they still have time. They don’t have to do this. He should have told Nick; what they’re doing is only going to make things worse. Victor says, perhaps they didn’t heed his warning after all. Here come the Vultures.

The caravan stops in front of them. Alicia and the others draw their guns. The Vultures get out, guns drawn. Mel says, hey, who told them to be there, and thanks the guy in the blue shirt, meaning Morgan. Mel tells Alicia, sorry about her brother, and she says, really? She’s not sorry about his. Mel makes some interesting, twitchy faces. Morgan says it doesn’t have to go this way, and Mel says, yes it does, but he doesn’t have to be in middle. He stands between Alicia and Mel, and Mel tells him to get out of the way. Madison radios, asking, where is everyone? Mel says, they didn’t tell her? and Morgan says, no. Mel says they aren’t going to like this. A Land Rover drives up. John asks where they got it, and Naomi gets out. John says, Laura? He moves toward her, and Alicia says, no!

Mel is confused, and shoots John. Morgan runs to him, and Naomi drops to her knees.

Next time, Naomi says, it’s not safe: Morgan says, this has to stop: Madison says, no one is gone until they’re gone; and Luci meets Charlie.

👰 I confess, I watched the Royal Wedding. I didn’t get up before the crack of dawn to watch it live, but checked it out later. I’ll never get up before the crack of dawn for a wedding again after Prince Charles and Diana Spencer. I did it for them, and we all know how that turned out. It must be weird for Meghan Markle, suddenly going from making movies to having movies made about her. Like a skabillion other women, of course I wanted to see all the fashions, but most important, the dress. Meghan Markle’s, now Duchess of Sussex’s, dress. It wasn’t a wow. It was from Givenchy, but very plain, long sleeves and a boat neck. Although I do love a boat neck. While Princess Diana floated in a cloud only she could carry off, Kate Middleton’s gown has been my favorite of more recent royal brides so far. That being said, I reasoned that she might have wanted the focus to be on Queen Mary’s tiara (which was stunning), and the sixteen-foot veil, which had the individual flowers of the fifty-plus commonwealths embroidered on it. Along with Meghan’s state flower, which I suppose was nice of them. I would have loved to have gotten a better view of the veil. It was hard to see the detail on most of the time. Anyway, it was fun to see what all the guests wore as well, including the always adorable Queen Elizabeth, and the grandeur of the whole thing. I especially loved the fairytale carriage ride at the end. Probably the best thing about it, is how the young royals have kept the beautiful traditions, yet bucked some archaic ones. Meghan is an American actress, half African American, and divorced – even one of those things would have been unheard of not that long ago. Too bad it comes a little late for King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.

😔 Sigh…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The show was on for a couple of minutes, when ABC broke in with news about the school shooting in Santa Fe. I get that, but it had happened several hours earlier, and, as usual, went way past the point of giving us news. That’s what I hate. My problem isn’t with the news itself, but all the amenities that come with it, like interviewing the janitor’s second cousin who witnessed nothing, but knows when it’s going to rain. Seriously, unless the world is coming to an end – and I mean literally, like if the sun is hurtling toward us – or we’re being invaded, I don’t see the point and it’s just irritating. Later, I was able to watch what I missed online with Verizon, but they usually don’t list it the same day. Lucky me, I didn’t have to imagine the lips syncing with the words on a pirated version.

General Hospital

Molly introduces Alexis, but she’s busy eavesdropping on Anna and Finn backstage. Finn tells Anna he’s never stopped caring. She’s never far from his mind and heart, and he wouldn’t want anything to happen without her knowing he cared.

Jason stops by Nelle’s room to find Michael. Michael asks if she’ll be okay for a few minutes. She says sure, and then the show gets interrupted for news that can wait an hour. I catch up a few hours later. Jason gives Nelle a stupid look. In the hallway, Jason tells Michael that Carly didn’t push Nelle, and deep down he knows that.

Finn apologizes to Anna for taking so long to tell her. Alexis makes herself known.

Nina doesn’t understand why Valentin is so eager to leave; he still has to perform. He promised Lucy, and Nina tells him not to let her down. She asks if something is going on.

Sam looks at the lighter on Peter’s desk, and sees the initials, CF. She says, Cesar Faison. She remembers Jason telling her about Faison carrying it, and that it wasn’t with his belongings. At the time, she’d said, if they find the lighter, they find Henrik.

Alexis, Finn, and Anna all look at each other. Alexis walks away. Finn says he should – and Anna says, yeah, he should. On stage, Lucy apologizes for the glitch. Alexis comes out to applause, but she keeps moving, and goes out the door. Mike points out to Sonny that she’s upset, and asks if he wants to go after her. Sonny says it doesn’t have anything to do with him.

Valentin tells Nina that he wants to get away with the two people that matter to him the most, her and Charlotte. Nina reminds him that his song at last year’s ball convinced her to give him another chance. He screwed up. Here’s his chance not to do it again.

Sam says Peter was in the hospital the night Faison died. She sees his copy of The Severed Branch. She flips through it, and says, just like it happened in the book.

Michael knows Jason will always defend his mother, and he’s grateful, but he wasn’t there. Jason says, neither was he. Jason asks what Nelle said. Michael says she told him that his mom lost control. Jason say that’s proof Nelle is lying. Carly would never risk her grandchild. He knows she would lie down in front of a train for her family. Michael says, under normal circumstances, and it’s been anything but normal lately. Jason insists it’s Nelle sabotaging Carly’s life.

On stage, Lucy says it’s not the Nurses’ Ball without some drama, but they’re not letting it ruin a good time. She tells the audience to kick it up a notch for the rocker others call Eddie Maine, but they call him Mr. Mayor. He and his first lady are spearheading the rebuilding of their city. In 60s garb with a flower power background, Olivia plays the tambourine, and Ned sings, (What’s So Funny ’Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding. Excellent.

Colleen Sullivan tells us to stay tuned for more glamor, excitement, and surprises. They’re just getting started.

Jason tells Michael there have been calls from a payphone near where Morgan died, a replica of his scarf, the power outage and intruder at Bobbie’s house, and Carly finds Morgan’s picture on the floor, broken. Michael asks if he thinks Nelle did all that. He’s going to have to prove it. Jason says like he’ll prove the blanket is real. Jason gets a call from Sam, but asks her to hold on. He says he needs Michael to be careful, for the baby’s sake and himself. Michael says Jason has given him a lot to think about. Jason gets back on the phone, and asks Sam what’s going on. She says she needs to see him. It’s important.

Molly – in a very becoming sleeveless gown that looks like it’s made out of blue/green glitter – tells Finn that whatever he said to upset her mother, she’s completely humiliated. So don’t apologize or try to fix it, just accept the fact that he’s a jerk and leave her alone. Anna says, oh dear. Ha-ha! She’s so British sometimes. He says it didn’t go exactly as planned. Anna says, for the record, she’s not dying. Finn says, for the record, he meant everything he said. Anna says she cares a lot about him too. Oh, kiss already.

Ava suggests she and Griff take advantage of his room upstairs; she could use a warm-up before her performance. Griff says he wants to watch the rest of show, She says it’s cool.

Stella tells Sonny it’s manifestly none of her business, but sometimes an outsider can pick up on things another person is too close to see. Sonny asks where she’s going with this. She tells him that he has a stare that could freeze a blasting furnace. Putting it on the woman who is the mother of his child might not be the wisest thing. Mike tells her to forgive him; he has a helluva temper. Sonny says it’s difficult to be in the same room, especially tonight, but she’s right. It’s not a good thing to show the world how you feel. Stella agrees. Sonny raises his glass to Ava, who’s like, huh?

Backstage, Kim asks Josslyn and Oscar if they’re ready. Drew joins them. Oscar says he didn’t know Drew was coming, and Kim says, neither did she. Drew says once he heard Oscar was performing, he couldn’t be stopped. Oscar hugs him, and says, thank you. Everyone smiles.

Anna says Finn needs to find Alexis and apologize. He says, yes, he does. Anna tells him that she’s not staying much longer. She looks at text from Henrik: Midnight. Pier 55. Come alone. She says she has a meeting. She can’t tell him about it, but after tonight, she’ll be closer to it all being over. She tells him to go find Alexis.

Alexis sits at the bar. The bartender asks what he can get her. She looks at the bottles.

Michael goes back to Nelle’s room. She tells him that she’s gotten the all-clear from the doctors. She’s being released tomorrow. He says that’s good news. She asks if there’s something wrong. He says Jason was telling him what was going on with his mother. She thinks someone is harassing her; messing with her head for months now.

Finn sits next to Alexis. She says he found her. He tells her the concierge saw her take the elevator. He says, that’s not a double-vodka? She says, it’s a club soda, and she wishes people would stop acting as if she’s dying for a bottle of gin every time she feels crappy. Finn says he never meant to hurt her; he’s sorry. She says he has nothing to be sorry for, and he didn’t hurt her. She just hurts. She knew he still cared about Anna; it’s not on him. He didn’t do anything. She allowed herself to be a prop in the game he was playing with Anna.

Anna starts to text Henrik. Robin startles her, and asks what’s up with her and Finn. Anna says it’s complicated, and suggests they go and enjoy the show.

Peter is messing with his phone, and Maxie says, more work? He tells her these are the last ones, and goes out to the hallway. Julian asks Molly if she’s getting nervous about Finn. She says she doesn’t want to fight with him – he did save her life – but her mother is in a vulnerable place. He’d better think long and hard before he does anything for Alexis’s sake. Julian says he’s not sure what means. She thinks he does. Kim asks what Julian doing about Alexis, and Julian says he’s here with her, and they should get back to their seats; her son is performing. Lucy says the Nurses’ Ball is known for spotlighting younger performers, and introduces Molly and Oscar. This is when the news released us back to the program. Or rather, commercials, then the program.

Molly sings, while Oscar accompanies her on the guitar. I think the name of the song is I Never Knew, but I’m not positive. I’m not familiar with it, and come up empty in a subsequent search. Sam shows Jason the lighter. She says she found it in Peter’s office. She was confused at first, since he said he wasn’t a smoker. She remembered he’d said he had to confront Faison about something in the hospital the night Faison died. Jason says Faison was honest for once. He’d said Henrik was hiding in plain sight. Jason says, Peter August is Henrik.

Mike tells Molly she was spectacular, and tells Oscar his date is pretty, but not as gorgeous as Stella. Kim motions Oscar over.

Kiki asks if she can sit at Molly’s table. Molly thought she was sitting with Dr. Bensch, but Kiki says she wants to be with people her own age.

Kim asks if Oscar is glad now that he took music lessons. I’m assuming that means she forced him to take them.

Michael asks Nelle if his mom mentioned anything to her. Nelle says she rambled about a disappearing note and Morgan’s cologne, but she wasn’t making sense. Something starts to beep on Nelle’s monitor. She begins to panic, and Michael tells her, just breathe.

Sam tells Jason that Peter is with Maxie, and asks how they’re going to do this.

Maxie tells Peter that she’s not feeling so great, and asks him to take her home. Valentin watches.

Robin asks if Anna is leaving already; there’s a lot left. She asks if it has to do with the emails she’s been receiving. Anna is cagey, and says she wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t important.

Lucy tells Valentin it’s his turn.

Kim asks Julian if he’s thinking about going after Alexis. Julian says he’s here with her. She says they promised to be honest with each other. He says they’re having a great time. She tells him if he needs a friend, he has one, and leaves.

Finn tells Alexis that she was never a prop. He fell for Anna more than he wanted to admit. He wasn’t using her; he wanted to move on. Alexis says that’s why they call it a rebound. There’s a good reason why people in same AA meeting shouldn’t hook up. He says it’s not about that; it’s about him. She deserves better. Alexis says that she needs him to not be there right now, and he wisely leaves.

Kim sees Olivia looking into the swag bags, and Olivia says she’s taking advantage of the break to snoop in the bags. We get an advertisement for Olay with Kim pitching the product.

Michael says he didn’t mean to upset Nelle. She tells him that she was so scared when Carly pushed her; she was out of control. Michael asks if she’s sure Carly pushed her, and she says, she absolutely pushed her. He tells her to get some rest. She says she’ll be fine, because he’s there.

Mike sees Deanna, and says he found his favorite nurse at the Ball. Deanna says, since it’s the Nurses’ Ball, the odds of that were pretty likely. Stella introduces mike to Felix. She thinks they’ll get along well.

Jason asks Robin if her mom is still there. He has to talk to her. Robin says she left, and asks, what’s up? He tells her Anna will explain when there’s time. Sam tells him that Peter left with Maxie. She thinks he’s meeting with someone. They have to get into Peter’s email account.

In the car, Maxie apologizes to Peter for making him leave early. He says he had to work anyway. He asks how she’s feeling, and she says like the baby is doing a kickboxing workout. She suddenly tells him to pull over. Her water just broke. Shouldn’t they jet to the hospital? Peter asks if she’s sure, and she says, very, and she’s done this before. She says they have no time to get to the hospital. There’s something wrong with the baby. Where’s that Star Trek transporter they always use?

Julian sees Alexis at the bar. Kim asks if she can join Drew. He’d thought Julian was her date. She says he had to see someone; she’s flying solo. They go in and sit together.

Jason and Sam go into Peter’s office. Jason leaves a message for Spinelli. He tells Sam that they don’t have a lot of time. They need to hack into Peter’s email. He pushes the keyboard toward her

Lucy tells the audience to give themselves a hand, and to keep the momentum going. The next performance was a surprise addition to last year’s Ball. He was so good, they asked him to come back. Valentin sits at the piano, and performs Peter Gabriel’s Book of Love, accompanying himself. He sings to Nina, and she smiles. He is really good.

As the song finishes, Robin get up. Robert is on stage. He punches out Valentin.

On Monday, David follows Kiki, Robert wants justice, and Anna waits for Henrik. Who is busy delivering a baby.

👗 Since I know my dress descriptions were lacking, you can see some of them here. I voted for Sam.

🏰 Sadly, tonight was the Once Upon A Time finale. Since they shoved it into the death spot on Friday night, and I knew it was the last season, I found it hard to commit, so I hadn’t watched much of it. I figured I’d catch up on a rainy weekend some time. I did want to see the end though, and it was sweet. They brought in many of the old characters for the farewell. In a nutshell, Rumpel/Gold and Belle were reunited at last, in heavenly clouds. All the realms were united, and Regina was chosen to lead them. Snow White and Prince Charming officiated at the coronation, crowning her The Good Queen. Emma called it a happy beginning, since Regina didn’t like endings, and the stories were far from over. However, Regina thought second chance was a better choice. because in the end, they could get past it all – with hope. And we saw the sign, saying, Leaving Storybrooke. Sad face.

🍖 It was also the finale of MasterChef Junior. The final three – Quani, Beni, and Avery – had to create a three-course meal. For their entrees, they each gathered inspiration from their roots, cooking catfish, veal chops, and a ribeye, respectively. A lot of attention was given to Quani having elevated the catfish. Apparently, none of the judges were a fan of it, which surprised me, since I like catfish. Although it sounded like one of those things that, if it’s not done exactly right, you don’t want to eat it. When they moved on to the dessert, and Quani’s tart broke, so did my heart. It was not a happy moment. Beni was the big winner, and the young chefs ended with a group hug. I have to confess, I both rooted for Avery, and was glad she didn’t win. She’s eight. Eight. And cooks better than anyone I will ever know.

⛲ Quotes of the Week

All from the same poetess.

A lifetime isn’t forever, so take the first chance, don’t wait for the second one! Because sometimes, there aren’t second chances! And if it turns out to be a mistake? So what! This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes! But if you never get a second chance at something you didn’t take a first chance at? That’s true failure. —  C. Joybell C.

Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin. And there are many things that don’t really end, anyway, they just begin again in a new way. Ends are not bad and many ends aren’t really an ending; some things are never-ending.C. Joybell C.  Or as Semisonic put it more simply, every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

We have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter. Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don’t even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets! It’s time to put an end to this. It’s time for us to let ourselves be loved. — C. Joybell C.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Lulu tells Peter that Anna is helping her find Henrik.

Emma promises it will be the best show ever.

Julian tells Kim she looks spectacular, and she does, in a black sleeveless gown with gold sequined flowers, and blue tassel earrings. I love a tassel. He tells her pretty much anything can happen at the Nurses’ Ball.

Lucy is introduced. She says, while the glitz and glamour has its place, the real star quality is the desire to help each other. The nurses sing Everyday People, with Epiphany starting the song. Nurse Deanna also makes her debut. The choreography is pretty good. Confetti falls at the end.

Lucy thanks their sponsor Olay, and says 100% of the donations will be going to HIV/AIDS research and support. She tells everyone to mingle and get out their checkbooks. Jordan greets Chase, and he says he’s taking one for the team, even if the team doesn’t want to rehearse together. Curtis sees Stella, and says he didn’t expect her to be there. She says she got an offer she couldn’t refuse; Mike invited her. Curtis asks if she’s sticking around all night. She tells him that she’s not giving any thought to him and Jordan, and to just go on and have a good time.

Mike tells Sonny it’s great to have a date. Too bad Carly couldn’t be there. He asks where she is again, but Bobbie comes by, and asks if she can borrow Sonny. Mike says he’ll mingle; he doesn’t want his date getting jealous. Bobbie tells Sonny she can’t believe Carly is spending a second night in jail. Nelle baited her all afternoon, and Carly pushed back, but no way did she push her down the stairs. Sonny says he didn’t want to be there tonight, but his dad wanted to come. Bobbie has one of the best looks of the evening; a body-hugging royal blue gown, with a mermaid hem, open-shoulders, and bell sleeves. Along with the required tassel earrings in silver.

Emma asks if she’s going to have to confiscate Anna’s phone. Anna claims she’s trying to contact Robert, but Robin doesn’t buy it. She says either Anna is waiting to hear from Finn, or looking for Henrik.

Maxie tells Sam that she’s surprised Jason isn’t there. He doesn’t like formal events, but always makes an exception for the Nurses’ Ball. Nina says it’s a great turnout. Maxie says Nina should kick back and relax, but Nina says she’s performing later. Afterwards, Valentin is whisking her and Charlotte away for a mini vacation. She wonders if anyone has a cigarette. Peter tells her nobody smokes anymore; thank God he never did. She thanks him for saving her from herself. Peter steps away to make a call. Sam needs a drink.

Valentin is talking on the phone in French, when Peter interrupts, telling him to hang up now. Valentin finishes his call, and tells Peter that he’s rude. He’s planning a trip, and making the final arrangements. Peter says that Anna set him up, and Valentin knew about it. Valentin tells him to get a grip. Peter says she’s going to expose him, and Valentin is leaving him high and dry. It’s his fault. Sam watches them.

Alexis startles Sam, who says she’s nervous for her. Alexis says she’s nervous enough for herself. If it’s any consolation, Finn is introducing her. Sam asks how that happened, and Alexis thinks it was his idea. Sam is glad things are going well between them. Alexis is too.

Finn looks at Anna, and thinks about the will again. He goes to her table, and Emma asks why he doesn’t text; she needs to know what her grandma is up to. Anna says she can text just fine. Finn asks if Anna is performing, and she says she performed at last one.

Chase sits with Lulu. He asks if Dante is nervous, or is he used to performing? She’s like, um… and Lucy grabs Chase, saying she’s trying to keep the show moving. Dante brings Lulu a drink, and she says Chase thinks Dante is performing with him. Dante wonders where he got that idea.

Valentin knows Peter is rattled, but tells him not to do anything rash. He has too much at stake. Peter says Anna is making a fool out of Valentin, and he’s too infatuated to notice. He’s going to deal with Anna himself.

In the dressing room, Chase asks Dante why he’s not dressed, and where the other guys are. If he didn’t know better, he’d think he had to do this on his own. Dante says he’s sorry, and Chase asks if Dante is saying he is on his own.

Lucy introduces Chase. Dante tells him that whatever happens, it’s for a worthy cause. He sings Feel It Still, with a Dick Tracy motif. At least he has back-up singers/dancers. It’s a great number, and Finn actually smiles.

Sam sneaks around, and goes to Peter’s office. She thinks about Curtis saying what’s missing from dude’s background is his background.

Alexis tells Finn his brother is a hit, and asks if he can sing like that. He says not if his life depended on it. (Not since he was vampire Caleb on Port Charles anyway.)

Jordan tells Chase that she’s sorry he got set up, but he clearly turned the tables; he did the department proud. She tells Dante that he needs to take a page out of his partner’s book. Dante says, next year, and Chase tells him, no hard feelings. They shake hands. Curtis blows past Jordan, and Nina says she has to take care of something. Valentin says he’ll miss her, but after the Ball, she’s all his. She says, always, and he tells her he doesn’t think he could live without her and Charlotte. Nina says good thing he’ll never have to find out. She leaves, and he glares at Peter, who is looking at Anna.

Maxie tells Peter that she wants to say hi to Kim, and he says he has email to check. She tells him not to be a workaholic. He looks at the last email from Anna.

Sam looks through Peter’s stuff. Faison’s lighter is on his desk.

Lucy says the next performer is going to dazzle and delight them. She introduces Obstacle Illusion, and his assistant, Mirage. Nina comes out. She creates a puff of smoke, and Curtis appears. He asks, who’s ready for some magic? He turns his black scarf into rainbow colors, and then makes a bouquet of flowers appear. He asks, what good is a magic act without a card trick, and asks an audience member to pick a card before revealing that the cards are all attached. He tells Nina Mirage the stage is messy, and picks up some scraps of paper, turning them into a newspaper. He says he needs a volunteer, and Nina picks Jordan. Curtis claims they’ve never met before, but his mental skills tell him that she’s the police commissioner. Stella is hoping maybe he’ll saw her in half. Curtis quietly tells Jordan to just go with him. He and Nina put her in a large box, and he says he’s going to change her life. They twirl the box around, and Jordan comes back out. She says she feels the same, but has a silver dollar in her hand. Curtis says he’s been looking for that. If he rubs it, he can make whatever he wants. He turns it into a ring, and says the magic is already happening. They came back into each other’s lives, and found something miraculous. He doesn’t want to take the miracle for granted. He gets down on one knee, and asks her to believe in their magic and marry him. Stella is obviously disgruntled. Jordan says yes, and there’s applause and confetti. They kiss. There’s no applause from Stella, who tells Mike this is full of complications. He asks if she’s one of them, but she says it’s too much to go into. He tells her the graveyard is full of people who hold grudges. Take it from him, none of it matters.

Kim asks Maxie if she’s okay. Maxie says she’s trying not to be a nervous mom-to-be; the baby has been more active than usual. Kim tells her that’s normal, and the baby probably just wants to party. If Maxie needs to talk, come see her. Maxie says she’ll be fine.

Anna is back to staring at her phone, and Robin is like, mom… Anna says Emma isn’t there, so she’s not setting a bad example. Robin tells her to knock herself out; she’s going to mingle. Anna reads a message from Henrik: Midnight – Pier 55 – Come alone.

Maxie tells Peter the baby is fine; her, not so much. The proposal was beautiful, and she’s happy for them. Nathan would be too, if he was there, but he’s not. He’s gone, and sometimes it hits her. She leaves and Peter follows.

Sam totally misses seeing the lighter. Someone starts to open the door. The cleaning guy comes in, asking if anyone is there. Sam says just her. He asks where Peter is at, and she says, at the Ball. He asks, why isn’t she?

Sonny hugs Robin, who says she always feels Stone’s presence on this night. Sonny does too. He’s glad she could make it; it wouldn’t be the same without her. he wants to thank her for recognizing that his father was off. She wishes she’d been mistaken. Sonny says it scared the hell out of him. He didn’t want to come tonight because of Carly, but she insisted he come for his dad’s sake and his memories. Really? When was that? It was Stella who told him to do go.

Mike tells Stella that even if she doesn’t approve, she should give points to Curtis for style. She says style has never been his problem. He’s all flash and dazzle, and can charm birds from the trees. She bets Mike knows about that, but he says, according to his son, he’s an amateur.

Lulu tells Sonny that his son has egg on his face. Dante says he played a joke on Chase, but the joke was on him. He’d told Chase it was a group act. Lulu says, it’s karmic justice; he’s super talented. Dante says maybe not super, and Sonny asks if he’s jealous.

Finn slips out.

Lucy says there’s a slight change in the lineup. The next act can’t perform. Mac & Mr. Marvel are stranded out of town, so they’re going to make the award presentation. She needs Finn.

Backstage, Anna looks at the text from Henrik. Finn startles her. He says they can’t keep doing this.

Alexis says Finn must have stepped out, but Lucy needs to keep the show rolling. Molly says she can step in.

Peter asks Maxie if she’d be more comfortable in his office, and gives her a hanky. She says she’s fine; she has to stop this. He tells her not to be hard on herself. It’s been a tough night. He asks if he said something wrong, and she tells him that Nathan gave her his hanky the first night they met. She almost gave it away, but is glad Sam intervened. I’m surprised she can’t guess Peter and Nathan are related. What men carry hankies anymore?

Sam tells the cleaning guy that when you’re a boss, you never have the night off. She needs to pick up a file, and asks if he can come back later. She sees the lighter, and thinks about Peter saying no one smokes anymore, and thank God he never did.

Molly introduces Alexis. She says she’s watched and admired Alexis her whole life. As a lawyer, activist, and mom, she’s overcome personal and professional adversity.

Finn tells Anna now he knows why she’s been pushing him away. She asks how he found out. He says, so she admits it, and she tells him that she was afraid of what he’d think. He says all the time they wasted. She asks what he’s talking about, and he says if she can’t say it, he will. He knows she’s dying. Alexis overhears.

Molly wants to introduce her hero, role model, and mom; and the first recipient of the Port Charles Pioneer award. There’s applause, but no Alexis.

Finn tells Anna that they need to stop playing games with one another. She wonders why he’s carrying on, and he tells her that he still cares; he never stopped. He wouldn’t want anything to happen without her knowing how much he cares.

Valentin tells Nina they have to leave. They need to pick up Charlotte. She asks why they can’t go tomorrow, but he says he doesn’t want to. There’s nothing worth delaying the vacation of a lifetime.

Maxie promises to wash Peter’s hanky. She thinks she wants to go back in. She has to move around. The baby is being active, but the doctor says it’s a good thing. They go back in.

Sam picks up the lighter, and sees the initials CF. She says, Cesar Faison.

Tomorrow, Maxie asks Peter to take her home, Finn is sorry it took so long, and Sonny tells Stella it’s not good to show the world how you feel.

Southern Charm

Cameran calls mom Bonnie. She’s getting stuff together to go to the hospital. She has her last OB appointment and they might induce labor. Bonnie thinks she might be having contractions. Cameran feels tunnel-visioned and focused. She doesn’t want Bonnie being anxious and crazy, and Bonnie promises to be calm. It’s the last time Cameran is going to be in her house without a kid, and it’s something she never thought would happen.

Kathryn meets Chelsea and her roommate/trainer at the gym. Kathryn says her body has changed since having kids. The do some kettle bell work, and I approve. I love kettle bells. After the workout, Kathryn tells Chelsea that she’s feeling lonely. She has to learn how to get herself out there again. She tells Chelsea about Thomas flirting with her in front of Ashley. She says he likes making two girls jealous of one another. In her interview, she says she has Thomas where she wants him; it’s almost like a formula. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Craig meets Austen at the park, and they go for a run. Austen says Victoria texted him after a party and said she wanted to come over. He’d been dating her and everything was fine until he realized he still had feelings for Chelsea. When they’re together, there’s flirtation that builds, but then plateaus. He thinks she’s not interested. Craig says they don’t have the same lifestyle; that’s why he and Naomie broke up. Austen says he wants to keep the friendship with Chelsea, but he and Victoria mesh. Craig thinks they both need to man up and move on.

Naomie’s roommate, Wilson, helps her fold sheets. She’s glad Craig wasn’t at the Nico opening, since she could concentrate on herself instead of them fighting. She went to business school, since she wanted to run her own company one day, and it’s time to prove herself.

Shep calls his dad, Rip. Shep and Rip. No words. Shep’s brother is having a child, and Shep says Rip must be relieved the Rose name will live on. He thinks it’s obvious he won’t have a traditional life, but thinks he might have anxiety about it as he gets older. His investment in bars was unhealthy, so now he’s renovating his house on the beach for rental. He calls it mailbox money – setting things up so you can do what you want and still get income.

Patricia meets with stylist Madison at Gwynn’s for Ashley’s make-over. Patricia doesn’t usually do personal styling, but is making an exception. Otherwise, Thomas will be on Medicare before he gets married. Ashley arrives. She sees Patricia’s ring, and asks her to go ring shopping with her when the time comes. Ashley models some outfits. The stylist puts her in Chanel with Jimmy Choo shoes. Ashley says she feels like a Barbie doll, and Patricia tells her to never refer to herself that way. Champagne is popped. With another outfit, Ashley feels like Pretty Woman, and that reference gets a no as well. Patricia asks if she and Thomas have talked about making it permanent. Ashley says she didn’t move across the country for no reason. Patricia says if and when it goes on too long, if you have to give an ultimatum, so be it. She asks if Ashley is going to start her career there, but Ashley makes some excuse about getting her license. Patricia tells her not to make the mistake of playing house and quitting her job; she thinks it’s burdensome to men. In her interview, Patricia says she knows how to close the deal, and dated her current fiancé four months before he asked her to marry him. She tells Ashley that it makes women more attractive to have a life. It tips the scale, and he’ll want her on a permanent basis. In her interview, Patricia says, she’s had successes, and the proof is in the pudding. The bill comes to over ten grand, and Patricia says, thank you, Thomas.

Chelsea calls brother Kyle who invites her to join him the tiki bar. She’s waiting for a call or text about Cameran’s baby. In her interview, she says when she lived with Cameran, Kyle was their third roommate. She’d been secretly hoping Cameran would date him. She’s going to Hilton Head in a couple of days with Shep and the gang, and wants to see their old house nearby. He asks if she’s going to introduce Shep to their family. She asks if a certain aunt still has all the cats. He says she has twenty raccoons now.

Shep meets Whitney and Thomas for drinks. Thomas says he’s happy with what he’s got. Whitney hasn’t seen any drawbacks. Thomas says they’re the same with all women – you can’t date. Shep says she can withstand the madness, and Thomas says she can handle Kathryn. They’ve been getting along better than they ever have, and he says when they were together, the pressure was on them from day one. He talks about them spontaneously hooking up on occasion. In his interview, Shep thinks Thomas is still drawn to Kathryn. She’s hot and witty, but there’s something vulnerable about her that makes you want to make sure she’s okay. He asks if Thomas was walking the razor’s edge flirting with her at the party.

Kathryn wasn’t expecting to get any sort of job at Gwynn’s, but was offered an internship. They start off with a styling exercise. Madison gives Kathryn a customer profile, and tells her what the customer wants. She’s a solid ten nervous. The only store she’s worked in is an ice cream shop. There was no pattern or reasoning to the jobs she’s had; she just picked a job and went with it. She loves clothes and fashion, and knows she has potential. She just has to find the right fit. She shows Madison what she’s picked out and why. Madison tells her to think outside the box, and suggests more color and accessories. She loves where Kathryn’s head is at, and it’s a good start.

Austen meets Victoria for dinner. They order ceviche. Victoria talks about her job and suggests coming over on her two-hour lunch break. She asks what Austen wants, and he says he wants to be with her. She asks when he realized this. He sees them giving it a shot, but she wants to make sure he won’t freak out again. She wants his loyalty and to be able to trust him. He says he doesn’t think Chelsea as feelings for him, and Victoria says they’re either together or not. He says they are, and apologizes for his indecision. She accepts, but says it won’t be accepted again. My mind wanders to how these people eat outside a lot of the time, and that leads me to the thought that I’d love to live there, but it’s too damn hot.

Patricia gets ready for an Asian-themed dinner. Whitney puts the fortunes in the cookies. It’s an all-male dinner, and we flash back to others she’s had. She asks if her kimono makes her butt look big.

Thomas arrives first. He and Whitney discuss their suits, and Patricia calls them two vanity prone males. Austen is next, followed by JD (bleh). Thomas says he and Ashley had a quarrel. They were at a piano bar, and she wanted to leave, but he was having a good time. He told her he’s not putting up with this crap. He’s fifty-five, and doesn’t want her hovering over him. Patricia says she’s just looking out for him, but he says he doesn’t want to be controlled. Shep comes in, and Patricia asks where Craig is. Shep says he’s probably sewing her an excuse.

Craig walks in, and says it looks like the Oxford Club. When Shep asks what’s going on, he says he’s just living life. He wants a dog, but travels too much, and Naomie got the cat. Thomas asks if he has visitation rights. Austen says he has a date with Victoria, and Patricia asks what happened to Chelsea. He tells Patricia that he’s moved on.

Dinner is served. Whitney says it’s vegan, and most beneficial for healthfulness and mindfulness. The chef explains the dishes. Shep thought tempeh was a city in Arizona. Everyone declares the food delicious. Patricia hopes every year that the guys get over their Peter Pan Syndrome, but thinks it goes into perpetuity. She says woman ruined their possibilities of getting married because they act like wives with no commitment. In her era, you were a spinster after thirty, admitting they do get worried about the biological clock. Thomas why they can’t have as many wives as they can afford, because he’s an idiot. Patricia tells them about the shopping trip with Ashely. Thomas says it went to five figures, and Patricia says she didn’t ask the price of anything because it’s tacky. Rich people problems. JD’s fortune cookie says his prescription for Adderall is running low. Ha-ha! How about giving him something to knock him out? Thomas opens his, and it says, every exit is an entrance to new experiences. Craig says if that was the case, he’d have fewer kids. Thomas tells them that Ashley wants a child, and Craig asks if she’s using birth control. Thomas says, no, and I wonder why him using it isn’t an option. Patricia says Ashley loved her ring, and Thomas says they’d have to go to the Smithsonian to get one. While he’s talking, Thomas slips, and says Kathryn instead of Ashley.

Kathryn leaves a message for Thomas, asking if he wants to have dinner.

Cameran is back home. The doctor put her on a drip to have contractions, but her body wasn’t having it. Her cervix is like a steel trap. She did a walk of shame out of the hospital with no baby. The doctor told her to wait, and she’ll come when she’s ready. In her interview, Cameran says she’s been pregnant too long, and needs this baby out of her.

Kathryn meets Thomas at a restaurant for dinner. Outside. He points out that they both wore green. She fixes his hair. Sometimes, they really are like an old married couple. They decide to split the fish special. What did I just say? Kathryn wants to be honest, and says Thomas posted a photo of him, Ashley, and the kids on social media, and it hurt her feelings. She was brokenhearted, and just lying on the couch, numb. It looked like a family photo. Thomas sincerely gets it, and apologizes. He realizes it’s hard for her, and will be more respectful.

They discuss Saint’s birthday. It’s on a Thursday, and Kathryn asks if he’d be interested in helping her plan something for Sunday. She wants to show the kids they can be friends. He tells her about Kensie asking why they’re not together. Kathryn starts to say, she wishes, and Thomas interrupts, saying, they could get back together? She says, no. She means it when she says she wants them to be friends and get along. They shake on it. She fixes his hair again.

Next time, Naomie brings kitty Gizmo to Craig as a peace offering, Ashley doesn’t want to be excluded from Saint’s birthday, Victoria asks if Austen has talked to Chelsea about them, and the trip to Hilton Head happens.

🐎 Thought on Westworld. How come no one is like, hey, you don’t look like you belong here?

🎬 Bryan Cranston is a never-ending font of talent. I watched Trumbo last weekend, and he blew me away again. The film centers around Dalton Trumbo, Hollywood’s greatest screenwriter, until he was blacklisted by the House Un-American Activities committee during the McCarthy era. An excellent depiction of a paranoia that cost people their livelihoods, but also of the man himself. I was riveted.

😎 Cooler Than Cool…

May 16, 2018 – The Ball Begins, NYC Reconvenes, a Star Shocker, a Few More Secrets & Closer

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Nick Viall (The Bachelor) tells us that things are heating up on the red carpet. It’s a night of glitz, glamour, and especially heart.

Jason tells Sonny that Carly will be okay. Sonny is afraid she’s breaking down. It’s not like it hasn’t happened before.

Nina is in a magnificent red mermaid gown, with sparkly straps and accents. Valentin tells her how wonderful she looks, and that it makes him want to do unspeakable things. He’ll share her tonight, but after the Ball, he’s whisking her away for a fabulous vacation. He has tickets and passports for the both of them and Charlotte. Nina says, tonight?

Anna texts Henrik that she’s eager to meet him, and awaits further instructions. Robin arrives, and wonders why Anna is still in her robe. Anna says she needs a hug.

Robert feels along the walls of the cell he’s trapped in, but there are no secret passageways. There’s nothing except chipped paint. It looks like a really bad dorm room. He says there has to be a way out.

Sam stops in front of Peter’s office, but moves on when she realizes he’s inside. He looks at Anna’s message, and flips the lighter. Maxie enters wearing silver sequins. He has something to give to her. I wonder if it’s a prom corsage, but he hands her a velvet jewelry box.

Backstage on the phone, Lucy says everything had better be Velcroed, snapped, and sticky taped within an inch of its life. She wants no wardrobe malfunctions. She talks to one of the stagehands, and says no one is falling off the stage at the Nurses’ Ball. This makes me wonder if she’ll be falling off the stage when she has this year’s wardrobe malfunction. She tells herself it’s going to be fine. She tells her llama, it’s just you and me, Benny. My apologies for thinking the llama was a camel yesterday.

On the red carpet, Franco asks Nick if he can take the mic, promising nothing will have to be bleeped; it’s important to him. Nick hands the mic over, saying they have an impromptu guest commentator. Franco introduces Elizabeth Imogene Webber as the heart and soul of General Hospital, and the woman he hopes to call his wife. Elizabeth thanks Nick for indulging Franco, and thanks us all for watching. Nick says it was unusual, but he couldn’t have done it better. Franco and Elizabeth get their pictures taken.

Lucy rants about the menu cards. Olivia is freaking out, and Lucy asks if something is wrong. Olivia says she’ll handle it. Lucy tells her it’s the Nurses’ Ball. Nothing can go wrong.

Jason tells Sonny that Carly would never jeopardize her grandchild’s life; Nelle is lying. Sonny understands why he wants to believe that, but Carly’s been unraveling for weeks. Jason has to leave, but says he’ll be in touch.

At the hospital, Kiki is working. David gives her a list of files to pull and have on his desk by 7 am. Kiki yawns, and he asks if she’s tired, but she says no, she’ll be happy to do it. Molly calls her, and she says it’s nice of her, but it doesn’t look like she’s making it to the Ball. She has too much work. She’s bummed too, but maybe next year. David overhears.

Finn looks at some charts in his office, and thinks about seeing Anna’s will. Alexis walks in, and says he looks dapper. He thought he was picking her up, but she figured she’d save him a trip. He asks if she was too antsy to wait, and she says being the center of attention isn’t her favorite thing. She’s looking forward to their date and his introduction though, but he says she might want to hold her enthusiasm until she hears it. They leave for the Ball.

Nina tell Valentin that Charlotte isn’t out of school yet. He wants to go someplace that makes her smile, where they can relax and connect as a family. She says she’ll think about it, but right now, she has to rock the red carpet.

Robin doesn’t think Anna is listening, and asks what’s going on? Anna says it’s just a case she’s working on. Robin says, mm-hmm, Anna asks what that means. Robin asks if the case would happen to be named Hamilton Finn, but Anna says he’s moved on and so has she. There are no unresolved feelings. Anna goes to get dressed, and Robin laughs.

Peter tells Maxie that he hopes he’s not overstepping. He saw it and it reminded him of her, but she’s not obligated to keep. She asks if she can see it first, and he opens the box to reveal a stunning necklace with three pear shaped diamonds going across the chain. He says she can take it back if it’s too much. She tells him to slow his roll. She says it’s beautiful, and it is too much, but she’s learned in life never to return jewelry. I’m thinking it’s funny how when a character is given a necklace, they’re never wearing one, even when they’re in a formal gown. He puts in on her, and she asks how it looks. He says, like it was made for her.

Nina gets to the Ball, and Nick introduces her as his co-host. Josslyn, in a pink sleeveless gown with sparkling flower appliques, comes in with Oscar. She says she feels like Cinderella. Oscar tells her that she’s prettier. He kisses her, and I’m in love – with her matching pink tassel earrings.

At the Ball, Jason sees Spinelli, who says his services are at Jason’s disposal. Jason says Carly is locked up until morning. He can’t help her tonight, so Spinelli can help follow-up on the search for Henrik. Spinelli thought it was important to be there for Maxie. Jason says he’ll examine all claims, and try to figure out how Nelle set Carly up.

Stella visits Sonny, who tells her that he had to fire another nurse. She says sometimes it takes a while, but he’ll find the right fit. Mike comes out, saying he thought he heard the voice of an angel, and he was right. He asks if she can keep them company for a while, but she has to cut it short; she’s going to the Nurses’ Ball. Mike says they have to go. He performed in it once. Sonny says they’re not going, but Mike goes upstairs to put on his tux. Sonny laughs.

Jordan, wearing a burgundy gown with sequin accents and a keyhole neckline, walks in with Curtis. Nina says they’re the perfect ensemble for special occasion, and tells them take everything in and have a blast.

Olivia sits in the Quartermaine living room with someone we don’t see yet. She says it’s the biggest night of the year, and she forgot the chef had a scheduling conflict. Carla Hall, playing Cook 2, is in the other chair, and says she has the perfect solution. Olivia says, she’ll cover her at the hotel? Cook says, no, she can cook.

Jason goes to Anna’s room, and Robin hugs him. She says she’s ready hear about their adventure in Switzerland. Emma was living her best life, picking out a suit for him. Jason says it’s good she and Anna are spending time together; things have been hectic with a case. Robin says, so there actually is a case. She thought it was just a disagreement with Finn. Jason doesn’t know about that, but she’s fixated on finding Henrik. Robin asks if she should be worried, but he says just stay close. If Anna confides in anyone, it will be her.

When they get to the Ball, Peter tells Maxie that they don’t have to do the red carpet, but she says it’s hugely important night to show their support. An interviewer asks if she’s looking forward to anything in particular. She says fashion is her weakness, but her favorite part is that everyone steps outside of themselves and comes together to do good. Nina says word on the street is that it’s Peter’s first Nurses’ Ball, and asks what he’s expecting. He says he’s heard it’s the night to expect the unexpected. Valentin looks shocked to see him.

Valentin walks in, and Nick says Valentin obviously had the good taste to marry his co-host. Valentin says he’d do anything for this woman. He hugs Nina, and looks at Peter over her shoulder.

Robert lies on the cot. He looks at a barred window that’s high up.

Anna is startled to see Jason. Robin says she’ll meet her downstairs. Anna says she didn’t expect to see him, and he asks if she’s reached out to Henrik. She says she’s still waiting for a reply. Jason asks if she’s going to tell him, and she says, of course. He says as much as she doesn’t want him to find Henrik first – Anna says, and kill him – he doesn’t want her to walk into a trap. They need to stick to the plan, and work together. Anna agrees.

Maxie is surprised to see Spinelli.

David asks Kiki why she didn’t remind him the Nurses’ Ball was tonight. He tells her work can wait; she deserves a night off. She asks if this is a trick, and he says to go and enjoy herself. She says she’ll be back bright and early in the morning. He tells her to have fun.

Olivia says she knows she and Cook 2 have had their differences. Cook says Olivia blatantly ignored her wishes. Olivia says it’s a big kitchen; she thought they could share. Cook says she can have the whole kitchen at the MetroCourt to herself. Olivia says, help me, Cook 2, you’re my only hope. She can’t do it by herself.

Ooh, Sam’s dress! It’s navy and red, off-the-shoulder with short lacy sleeves, and sparkly. Nearly all the women have seriously plunging necklines. Alexis and Finn arrive, and Nick says even though she didn’t win the mayoral election, she’s clearly won the people’s hearts. Anna walks in while she’s texting, and trips. Finn catches her in a dip. Nick asks if Alexis and Sam made a pact to come solo, and Nina says, female empowerment! Alexis says she’s actually there with Finn. Robin tells Anna, sure there are no unresolved feelings.

Sonny can’t believe his wife spending time in jail. No way is he putting on a tux and going to the Ball. Stella asks if there’s anything he can do for Carly tonight, and he says, no. She says, but there is something he can do for his father. He says it doesn’t feel right, and she says Mike has Alzheimer’s; his time is short. Opportunities like this won’t come around very often. If she was him, she’d take it. Mike comes down in his tux, saying he needs help with his tie. Sonny says if Mike really wants to go, they’re going. Mike says this beautiful woman here is his date.

Robin and Anna walk the carpet. Robin is wearing a sparkling silver brocade number, and Anna is wearing a pretty purple blazer with a blue sash and black pants, but I’m wondering why no gown? Does she think she’ll have to jet? Anna says they’re there tonight so others can life live as successfully as Robin, and hopefully, one day they’ll eradicate HIV and AIDS.

Elizabeth tells Franco nice of him to slip in her middle name. He says it’s hands down, his favorite thing about her.

Spinelli brings Maxie something to drink, and takes her in to find a chair. Sam thanks Peter for taking care of her. He says he would have come alone, so they’re helping each other. Curtis watches them, and Jordan says, eyes on her. They kiss.

Olivia tells Cook how much respect she has, but Cook says flattery will get her nowhere. Olivia says it isn’t flattery; she thinks Cook is a culinary genius. Cook says she didn’t think that when she was infiltrating her kitchen with her manicotti. Olivia tells her it’s for a wonderful charity, and she doesn’t want people to starve, does she? Cook says she’ll do it on one condition. Swear on her favorite skillet that she’ll never set foot in the Quartermaine kitchen again.

Kiki walks the carpet in silver sequins. Ava, wearing black sequins, comes in with Griff. Lucy says she heard Ava is gracing the stage. Griff says Ava is a woman of many talents. Lucy tells her, good luck, and Ava asks if she doesn’t mean, break a leg. Lucy tells her, good luck.

Sam stands in the empty room before everyone comes in. Jason sees her, and their music plays. He asks if she’s taking a breather, and she says it’s a little much out there. He tells her that she looks beautiful. She takes it that he’s not coming, and he says he gave a donation. She asks what he’s up to, and he says he’s using the Ball as a cover to work on finding Henrik. Sam says she has her own thing going on. He tells her again that she’s beautiful, and I roll my eyes.

Josslyn tells Oscar that she’s having the best time ever, and the Ball hasn’t even started. She walked the red carpet with her boyfriend, who she’s in love with. He says he loves her too, and they kiss.

Elizabeth sees Robin, who asks if anything is going on. Elizabeth says, not a thing. Everything is back to normal, better than normal. Franco comes up behind her, and puts his arms around her. She says she’s happier than she’s ever been. Robin says she’s happy for them both.

Ava drinks a martini, which Griff calls liquid courage. Kiki asks if she’s ready to bring the house down.

Maxie introduces Peter to Robin. He says Robert Scorpio is her father, and she says, the legend himself.

Valentin asks Anna if she’s enjoying herself. She tells him that she’s sure Robert will do what’s needed with Henrik. Valentin is sure he will.

Not much he can do from a cell though. Robert starts to rub one of his arms, and keels over. Hmm… Is he having a heart attack, or does he think someone is watching through the window?

Cook tells Olivia, those are the terms; take it or leave it. Olivia says, okay, fine. She swears on her favorite skillet that she will never again set foot in the Quartermaine kitchen. Cook says, then she has chef for the Nurses Ball. They shake hands.

Mike, Sonny, and Stella come in; Stella in black and silver sequins. Sonny is asked why the Ball is important to him, and he talks about Stone dying, and says he doesn’t want another person dying from the disease. Nina asks who the beautiful lady is, and Mike says she’s with him. Sonny isn’t keen on the picture taking, but Mike says he’s out on the town with his son and best girl, and wants photo evidence; he might not remember. Sonny doesn’t want to do it, but Stella makes him take a photo with Mike.

Lucy walks the carpet with her llama, who is apparently also her date, in a black and white, open shouldered gown. She says it’s a magical evening. Nina tells her to have fun, and she says she always does.

Robin sees Sonny and they hug. Jordan tells Curtis that she didn’t know Stella would be there. He says neither did he. Finn asks Alexis how nervous she is, and she says on a scale of one to ten, she’s at 6,759, but she’s got this. Kiki tells Ava that she would have been disappointed if she missed her performance. David says, fancy seeing Kiki here.

On the phone, Valentin sets up security for the house in Morocco.

Robert lies on the floor unconscious.

Sonny asks Olivia if she’s okay. She says there was a minor crisis, but she has it handled. Although it cost more than she thought.

The doors open. Everyone is seated. Lucy welcomes them to the Nurses Ball, and they applaud. Peter and Valentin glare at each other.

Next time, Chase hopes he didn’t ruin a surprise, Peter says he’ll handle Anna himself, Sam is going to see what Peter is hiding, and of course, the entertainment. I loved Carla Hall, and hope she continues to be a recurring character even after the Ball is over.

The Real Housewives of New York City

In Puerto Rico, Bethenny introduces Dorinda around to the crew helping with cash card delivery. In her interview, Dorinda is glad Bethenny is good at putting things behind her. It paves the way for the day. How motivational poster. Bethenny explains how they’re going door to door, and giving out the cards. The driver says it will take years for recovery. Guys who were in Afghanistan think it’s bad. Bethenny says it looks like the hurricane was yesterday. Dorinda says the news coverage didn’t do it justice, and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. It’s complete devastation. She says it’s a feeling of total isolation. Bethenny gives one old lady two cards ($600) and everyone is crying. It sucks man. I went through Hurricane Sandy, but it was nothing like this. Dorinda says we complain about baloney, and she’s humbled by their positive attitude. Bethenny is glad Dorinda came.

Ramona picks up Sonja in a limo. They’re going outside of the city. Sonja says she doesn’t even like to walk out of her neighborhood. It’s Ramona’s way of apologizing. Sonja said what hurt her was Ramona not being supportive at LuAnn’s lunch. Ramona says sorry she disappointed Sonja, but she didn’t know what to do. In her interview Sonja says their friendship isn’t worth the pettiness. They go to an upscale store, where Ramona is friends with the owner. They look at a chinchilla coat and I go, eww. Have you ever seen one? They’re adorable.

LuAnn meets with someone named Ben about doing a cabaret act. It’s something she’s always dreamed of doing. She’s terrified, and that’s why she has to do it; it makes her strong. In her interview, she says she sang on Broadway once, and Liza Minelli told her, gurrl! She says Ben has done a lot of shows and knows everyone in the business. He tells her that you don’t regret mistakes, but steps you don’t take. She’s always bounced back. She says she’s made a lot of mistakes, and fallen on her face a few times. We flash back to her spill into the bushes. Ben thinks they should take their time and is already thinking of people he wants to use. He asks her to just sing something off the top of her head like Happy Birthday. She sings Happy Birthday, sounding better than she has in the past. He doesn’t think the voice matters – which I agree with – but her voice is good.

Bethenny’s group goes to town with no electricity. She says Puerto Rico after dark is intense. The first time they were there, the people were in mud up to their ankles. It’s a freakin’ mess. Bethenny says it’s not a huge place, and you can make a dent going to individual people. Omar talks about roaches and rats and such coming out at night. They’re the first people from the states giving money. Bethenny says they’ve heard that a lot. None of the money advertised is getting there. Sadly, that happens all too often. Dorinda says you’d be surprised what you can do when you have to, and the people are doing it with pride and dignity.

The girls meet for dinner. Dorinda took a pass, and Bethenny wants to wait for her to be there to talk about Puerto Rico. She asks how Tinsley’s weekend was with Scott, and I don’t hear what Tinsley says, but there’s applause afterward. Maybe I don’t want to know. Sonja arrives. She tells Bethenny she went on a date with someone she’d recommended. Tinsley is confused, and asks Carole what happened to Frenchie and Rocco? Tinsley and Carole continue talking about Sonja. In her interview, Bethenny says Sonja doesn’t seem to belong, no matter what she does. She feels sorry for her. Clearly, Tinsley and Carole aren’t into Sonja. Bethenny points out that once Tinsley got a boyfriend, who she met through Carole, she blew Sonja off. Bethenny has compassion for Sonja, and interrupts Tinsley’s conversation, saying it seemed like she was at the bottom when she came back to the city. Tinsley wonders where this is coming from. In her interview, Tinsley says Bethenny is picking on her regarding things she knows nothing about. She tells Bethenny that Sonja lied about her having no friends. In her interview, Carole doesn’t know what’s going on. She says Bethenny is spinning Sonja’s story because she’s not doing a good enough job herself. Bethenny says Carole always defends whoever she’s sitting next to. Carole says she’s a ride or die chick, and Bethenny is loud. She tells Bethenny to get off her jock. Bethenny says she loves Carole, but she chimes into whatever another person thinks. In her interview, Bethenny says Carole doesn’t have her own voice. LuAnn thinks this is sad. She doesn’t think the issue between Bethenny and Carole is about Sonja and Tinsley.

Carole goes to the Cosmopolitan magazine office. Editor Michele is a new friend, and she’s going to write something for them. Carole hasn’t written in years, and thinks it’s the perfect opportunity to get back into it. Michele is thinking something like an “on my mind” column, that runs a page. Carole says what’s on her mind is sexual harassment. She thinks it’s a good time to write about self-esteem, and how you need to affirm it every day. Michele asks how Carole is with deadlines. She’s on to how writers put things off.

Bethenny meets Dorinda for lunch. Dorinda says it’s weird, seeing Bethenny in this environment again. Bethenny says, it’s so clean. Dorinda says it readjusted her mindset. Now, she’s quiet in the morning, and thinking more positively. She asks about the dinner, and Bethenny says she was better off not going. There was too much yelling. Tinsley was going on about Scott. Bethenny thinks Sonja gave Tinsley a leg up, and now Sonja could use one. She says Carole was fighting Tinsley’s battle, and she’s noticed it’s a pattern. Carole jumps on everyone else’s argument. She tells Dorinda that she approached Adam about doing some photography work for the charity, and he asked what the comp was – no one else has ever done that; everyone works for nothing. When she told him there wasn’t any, he said he couldn’t afford to lose a week’s work, and it rubbed her the wrong way. She thinks he’s a bit of an operator. When she said something to Carole, Carole made excuses for him, and said everyone is an operator. Dorinda says, it’s a charity. She asks if Bethenny and Carole’s relationship has changed, and Bethenny says she’s been knee-deep in Puerto Rico, They were on totally different pages In her interview, Bethenny thinks Carole has more in common with Tinsley; she’s not married, has no kids, and no career. Dorinda wonders if they’re at odds, and Bethenny says Carole knows it’s a little off.

Sonja wants her place rented so she can move on with her plan. She invites LuAnn and Ramona over for a painting party. LuAnn is glad she’s finally doing something. Sonja shows them how the clutter is gone. Almost. She has suits for them to paint in, and says they’re going to touch up the chairs in the garden. She takes them out on the patio, and mixes the paint. They discuss Carole and Bethenny. LuAnn thinks Tinsley could be more grateful, and could have left if she wasn’t happy. Sonja says she left when Scott came into the picture. In her interview, Sonja says it’s awkward, but she’s a big girl. She tells them to paint over the bird crap. No. Just no.

Duff is a close friend of Carole’s, and has just written a book about chronic pain. She’s having a book party in what looks like a nice apartment. There’s a vodka fountain, and everything is decorated for Christmas. LuAnn and Ramona arrive first. Ramona tells Carole she feels that Carole has a voice now, and she loves it. She can’t believe Bethenny called her a puppet. Carole doesn’t believe Bethenny would say that. Ramona says maybe it’s more what she thinks than what was actually said. In her interview, Ramona says Carole is in denial. She might not have repeated the right words, but it was derogatory.

The second she gets through the door, Carole immediately asks Bethenny if she said Carole was a puppet. Bethenny says she wouldn’t use that word. They agree Ramona is nuts. In her interview, Bethenny says she implied others pulled Carole’s strings, but didn’t use word puppet. Tinsley, Sonja, and Dorinda join the party. Bethenny asks why Ramona told Carole she’d called her a puppet. Ramona says that was her interpretation, and Bethenny asks if she’s doing interpretations now. In her interview, Bethenny says Ramona thrives on other people being in discord, so she can swoop in to back underdog.

Dorinda tells everyone that she’s having a murder mystery dinner in the Berkshires. The time period is the 1920s, and they’ll all have characters. She passes out envelopes, and they all read their character names and descriptions. LuAnn says she wouldn’t be surprised at a murder in the Berkshires.

Tinsley wants to talk privately with Sonja. She’s heard Sonja has been saying things about her, and she wants to move forward. If Sonja ever felt she wasn’t grateful, she was and always will be. He tells Sonja if she has an issue with her, tell her, not everyone else. They agree to find time for each other. In her interview, Tinsley says she doesn’t want to get into a back-and-forth with Sonja, and get on a ride she can’t get off. Dorinda says she saw Tom wandering around with some tramp. He’s having a New Year’s Eve party on the same boat the engagement party was held on. We flash back to Dorinda’s tipsy toast. Carole joins them, and asks if Tom got a deal. In her interview, Dorinda says she let him know what a d-bag he is. LuAnn is glad she wasn’t there.

Carole thanks everyone for coming. She’s happy to share Duff with them tonight, and says Duff is the most amazing girl she’s met in New York. Someone spills wine all over the books. Not Dorinda.

Next time, the Berkshires weekend, Carole thinks there’s a disconnect with Bethenny, and Carole and Bethenny clash.

🌟 On Star, Cassie hired Derek for something, but I have the feeling it’s not what he thinks. Ayanna told the crew that tonight was a game changer; they were putting every resource behind Noah. Noah promised not to let everyone down. Jahil went to the trailer, and said he was tearing up Angel’s contract with Andy, but Angel was more concerned with being deported. Angel said if Jahil wanted to help him, stay out of his business. Ayanna appreciated Carlotta’s help, and Carlotta said she could show it by helping Take 3. Alex wanted to be able to do projects outside of Take 3. Simone was tired of the drama, and quit. Star accused her of overreacting. Carlotta told them tp do what they wanted, and went to the hospital. Jaden was now on the list for a kidney.

Maurice encouraged Star to go solo too, or watch Alex make her way to the top. Jahil told Andy that Cassie was no one to play with, and as they were talking, there was a drive by. Jahil got shot, but said it was just a graze. Carlotta dressed his wound, and asked who’s trying to kill him? He asked if it mattered, and came on to her, saying she’s his heart, and no one matches what they have. They got busy.

Simone told Angel that music was Star’s dream, not hers, and they decided to run away. Maurice told Star to take her anger to the booth, which she did, and told him to drop the track. Carlotta and Jahil danced, and Jahil started bleeding. Apparently, he had a heart condition only Carlotta knew about, and it created a situation where they couldn’t stop the bleeding. Simone asked if Star didn’t want something more than music, but Star didn’t know what that was. Carlotta asked Cotton to pray with her, and Cotton said, it had been so long, God didn’t want to hear from her. Aww. Miss Lawrence told Carlotta that Mexicans are resilient, and Jahil would be fine.

Carlotta was finally able to see Jahil, who told her that it had always been her, and he loved her. Then he flatlined and died. I was not expecting that. There you go, Benjamin Bratt. The good news was, that his kidney perfect match for Jared. I wondered why they hadn’t known this before, or if Jahil only had one kidney. in which case, he wouldn’t be needing it anymore. Carlotta told Cotton that Jahil’s heart couldn’t withstand him bleeding out. He’d said he wouldn’t let Jaden die, and he kept his word. Carlotta kissed Jahil one last time, and said goodbye. This whole thing was super sad.

Derek told Alex it didn’t have to be awkward every time they saw one another; life is too short. He was proud of her, and said if she needed anything, he was there. Ayanna stared at a pregnancy test in the limo. I wasn’t sure what the news was there, but she wasn’t happy. She called Noah, and told him that his life had finally turned around; he was getting his own tour. The call came just after Noah got pulled over. He was driving drunk, but Alex got behind the wheel before the cop got to the car.

At the funeral, Cassie approached Andy outside the church. She wanted her money or it would be his ass in the box next. She kissed him on the cheek while handing him a bullet. Wow. Brandi. Who’d have thought it? Everyone was all, I can’t believe he’s gone, and I was like, me neither. Star left a message for Maurice to forget about the track, so right away he called to drop it like it’s hot. As the pallbearers were taking the casket to the hearse, ICE came. Angel was one of the pallbearers, but they wouldn’t let him finish the task, dragging him out and cuffing him. When they were driving up, I thought it was the same guy who shot Jahil, there to finish the job. I wondered if that’s what the characters thought too. I have to add that the flower blanket on the casket was incredible, and quite colorful.

On the hair front, Queen Latifah spent most of the show in above-the-shoulder beachy waves with several colors of highlights, but for the funeral, she had long, dark curls with golden highlights, looking tragically romantic. Star won the hair-do wars though, in Rapunzel-like braids.

Next time, the finale – Star confronts Maurice, Noah is arrested, and Cassie and Carlotta draw guns on each other. That ought to be interesting.

🍷 I watched more of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Secrets Revealed, and I just loved the Lisa and Ken segment. They were about to celebrate their 35th anniversary, and Lisa asked what if they just pretended to go away? Ken suggested they hire a chef and stay home. Lisa says there was no place she liked as much as Villa Rosa, and it reminded me of how much the Edies loved Grey Gardens. They agreed they wouldn’t marry each other today, which made me kind of sad, but as a whole, it seemed like their life is a fairytale. There was lots of Giggy, and more sadness over Pink Dog and Pikachu, who passed within a week of one another. Giggy also has a heart condition now, and Ken is talking about cloning him. I would. As always, Lisa was self-depreciating, but so beautiful. I really want them to adopt me. I wouldn’t take up that much space. There was also a nice segment where LisaR and Erika visited Camille at her beach house in Malibu, and had lunch on one of the decks. It was one of those pleasant meals you don’t get in the regular episodes. Another funny thing was when Teddi called her dad. John Mellencamp, asking if he remembered when she got a tattoo in eighth grade. He did, and he’s still mad.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase goes into the interrogation room. Carly is there, and he gives her coffee and her prescription bottle. Sonny wants a straight answer from Diane, but she says bail hearings aren’t always quick. Carly was arrested after the courts were closed. He asks what the charges are, and Dante says it depends on if Nelle and the baby survive.

Nelle wakes up and yells, no, Carly! Michael tells her she’s okay; she’s in the hospital. She grabs him, saying she was scared. he says it was just a dream.

Griff watches Ava rehearse for the Nurses’ Ball. Lucy tells him not to leak anything he sees. He tells Ava that she blew his mind, and Lucy is like, mind? Okay. Ava says she’s nervous, but Griff says she’ll be great. He’ll be the guy in back cheering and saying that’s his girlfriend. She says, please, no airhorns. He asks if this will do, and gives her a bouquet of roses.

Peter texts Valentin, are you sure A.D. under control? Valentin wonders wonder what’s going on with him.

Peter and Anna sit separately at the MetroCourt. Peter reads Valentin’s reply, situation under control. He thinks he’d better make sure. Anna writes, Henrik? Please respond. Peter approaches her table, and asks if it’s top secret. She’s a real live spy, and the impulse is to think anything she’s doing is a covert operation. She asks what business it is of his.

Andre meets Drew. Drew asks if he wants to make amends, and Andre says, if it’s possible. Drew wants Andre to make it possible.

Lucy tells Alexis to coordinate with her presenter. Finn says, hi.

Andre tells Drew if he knows of a way he can help, he’s all in. Drew says, make me, me again. Andre says they’ve discussed it before, and without the data, there’s nothing he can do. Even if he gets his hands on it, there’s no precedent. There’s no guarantee it would work twice. The human mind isn’t meant to withstand memory writing and rewriting.

Peter says Anna hasn’t forgiven him for refusing to plant a false story. He asks how she does it. Which ideals is she willing to sacrifice? What rules is she willing to break? She asks if he’s interviewing her, and has a hidden recorder. He says it came to his attention that Robert might have leaked something to Nina’s husband about Henrik. She and Maxie are his star employees, and their safety is paramount. Anna says she has a word of advice. Valentin has a jealous streak, and he should leave Nina to him. Maxie is her goddaughter, and she’d sooner die than let anything happen to her.

Griff tells Ava his flowers may be premature, but she’ll be inundated later, and he wanted his to be first. She tells him to keep his expectations nice and low. He says he believes in her, and she says it must be torture not waking up next to her. He says the hotel will do for now, but it’s definitely not home. She hopes he finds home soon. He asks if she wants to go to breakfast while Lucy is terrorizing someone else, but she’s late for an appointment. She says she’ll see him tonight. He says he can’t wait, and they kiss.

Sonny goes into the interrogation room, and Carly asks where Michael is. Sonny says he’s at the hospital. Diane asks for privacy, so Dante and Chase leave, but Jason stays. She asks, what happened? Nelle said Carly pushed her. Carly says Nelle is lying. The whole thing was a set-up.

Nelle tells Michael the nightmare felt real; did she say anything? Michael says, no, but she was upset. She says she felt like she was falling and had no control; there was nothing to grab on to. She put her hand over her belly to protect the baby. She starts to cry. Kim comes in, and asks how she’s feeling. Nelle takes Michael’s hand, and asks if the baby is going to be okay. Michael makes a worried face to rival Griff’s.

Alexis asks how Lucy roped Finn in. Finn says Lucy dropped Alexis’s name, telling him she’s getting the Port Charles Pioneer award. Lucy walks by with a camel. A live camel. Finn says Alexis is receiving the award for fighting social injustice, and she says she’s done a few pro bono cases. He says more than a few. She’s glad it’s giving her an excuse not to perform. She’ll just graciously collect her plaque, and everyone will clap, but he has to give them a reason why. He says if his introduction is underwhelming, he’ll make up for it on the dance floor – as long as her date doesn’t mind. She says she doesn’t have one. He says, in that case, does she want to go with him?

Still leading the camel, Lucy sees Valentin, and says they have time to run through his number. He says he’s good to go. Lucy says since everyone loved him last year, she’s inclined to believe it, but the stage manager might need to rehearse. He says he’ll see her tonight.

Peter tells Anna that he’s been trying to reach Robert to no avail; perhaps she could put them in touch.  Anna says if Robert isn’t available, it’s for a reason, but she’ll relay the message. He says it’s most appreciated. Peter leaves, and Griff comes in. Anna hugs him, and he says he didn’t know she was back. She says she’s been underwater. He says she has to come up for air some time, and asks if she’s still looking for Henrik.

At the station, Chase tells Dante the statements are consistent that Carly was the aggressor. She got in an argument with Ava about a gift, Nelle explained how the gift was chosen, and Carly claimed it was just to torment her. Carly also said the blanket was a replica of one Morgan had. The problem is, no blanket was located, and no one can attest it exists. Dante says no one knows what really happened except Nelle and Carly. He’s going to find answers.

Kim tells Nelle and Michael that the baby’s heartbeat is as strong as ever. There are no injuries to the baby; it’s just fine. Michael hugs Nelle. Ava sees, and she and Nelle lock eyes.

Diane asks Carly what she means by a set-up. Is she suggesting Nelle threw herself down the stairs? Carly says the fall was an accident, but everything leading up to it was deliberate. She saw the penguin mobile, and when she saw the blanket like her mom made for Morgan as a baby, she wanted to show it to Michael. Diane says no blanket was recovered. Is it possible she imagined it? Carly says, absolutely not. Jason looks at her.

Griff asks Anna if catching Henrik is worth what she’s putting herself through? She doesn’t know, but she’s getting closer. He says there are risks, and she says, acceptable risks. If she has the chance to alert him about Huntington’s disease, shouldn’t she. Wouldn’t he do that? He supposes he would. She asks if he wants breakfast, but a patient needs his attention. They can catch up at the Ball. He tells Anna that he loves her, and kisses her cheek.

Griff walks into Peter’s office, since there’s a bullet elevator that shoots him right there. He tells Peter that he needs to get out of Port Charles while he still can.

Drew tells Andre that he’s not letting Jason’s past rule his life. Andre says the best and safest way to deal with it is to accept it and keep moving. He has no way to restore Drew’s memories without the flash drive. Drew tells him to get Jason out of his head. Remove Jason’s memories, and he’ll deal with the rest.

Carly says she never even touched Nelle. She grabbed the blanket, and when Nelle grabbed it back, she fell. Sonny asks if the blanket is like the scarf, and Diane asks, what scarf? Jason explains how Carly found it on her desk, and Diane asks if he saw it. He says Nelle came back and took it. She worked for Carly, and knew the layout and how to avoid the cameras. Carly says Nelle set her up. Sonny says even if Nelle is responsible for the scarf, she couldn’t have taken the blanket. She was unconscious at the bottom of the stairs. Jason says someone else took it. They just need to figure out who.

Michael thanks Kim. Kim says she’d like to keep Nelle for another 24-hours to monitor her. Michael thought Nelle was fine, but Kim says it’s just a precaution. She leaves to order Nelle a room, and Michael asks if Nelle is okay. She says, yes, now that she knows the baby is okay. She asks him to get her some orange juice.

Dante asks Kim how the patient is doing. She says bruised, but okay, and the baby is healthy. There’s no indication of injury or distress.

Ava goes in to see Nelle. She says Nelle is looking hale and hardy after what she’s endured. She asks how the baby is doing, and Nelle says, well; no thanks to Carly. Ava says it was quite a shower. Nelle says it’s a blur, except for Carly pushing her; that’s crystal clear. It was terrifying how Carly came after her. Ava remarks that Nelle’s use of the blanket was calculating, but this couldn’t have been part of her original plan. Carly is up for two counts of attempted murder, and Michael has been there all night. All because of a blanket. She says, guess who has it now? and takes it out of her bag. That was slick. Ava must move pretty fast.

Jason says they need to go over who was at the Quartermaine’s. Diane asks to speak to Sonny privately, and Carly asks about what? Diane says they can go over the arraignment, while Carly talks to Jason. Carly says Diane doesn’t believe there was a blanket, but Diane says it doesn’t matter what she believes. What matters is what she can sell to a court of law.

Diane asks what Sonny thinks. Sonny thinks Carly is going through a breakdown; it’s been happening for months. She’s seen signs from Morgan that he’s not dead, and he thinks it’s her grief causing it. Diane says Jason believes her, and Sonny says if Carly wanted to jump off a cliff, saying she could fly, Jason would let her. Diane says it might come to that. If they can’t produce the blanket, Carly could talk herself into a conviction for attempted murder.

Carly tells Jason that they don’t believe her, but he does. He says it makes sense. Nelle knew where Morgan died. She did either made the calls or paid someone, and she carried out the rest. Carly says Nelle is crazy, but the hardest part is, her baby isn’t coming back. Jason hugs her.

At the hospital. Michael tells Dante the baby is okay. Dante asks if Nelle is conscious and lucid; he needs to talk to her. Michael says she’s still shaken up, but Dante needs a statement while it’s still fresh.

Ava says, lovely work. Nelle should consider opening an Etsy shop. She found it right where Carly said it dropped, and snuck it out while everyone was worried about Nelle. She says Diane is a great attorney, and would have a field day with it. Nelle tells her to wait, but Ava says, on second thought, she’ll hold on to it for safekeeping. She wouldn’t want Nelle to have to replace it. Nelle tells Ava to please give it to her, but Ava says she has enough to keep track of – like the photo of Griff’s DNA test. Dante and Michael come in, and just as fast as Ava snatched it in the first place. the blanket is back in her bag. Dante asks if Nelle thinks she’s up for questions. He’d like to clarify what happened before she fell.

Finn rehearses his introduction, and Alexis follows with her acceptance. Lucy says, hold everything, and tells herself, serenity now. She asks if this is how Alexis is making an entrance, and Alexis asks if she doesn’t like walking. Lucy says it’s boring, and Alexis suggests a triple axel. Lucy tells her she’s receiving an award on a magnificent stage, not looking for toilet paper in the grocery store. She should do some sashaying. Lucy demonstrates, and knocks Alexis’s papers all over. Finn picks them up, and sees Anna’s will.

On the phone, Anna says she’s trying to get in touch with Robert, and to make sure he gets the message.

Griff tells Peter that Anna is working with Jason. Peter thinks he has no reason to worry, unless Griff tells them. Griff says he needs to leave or come clean, or he might find himself at someone else’s mercy sooner than he thinks.

Valentin sees Griff leave Peter’s office. He asks Peter what the deal is, and Peter says Griff is trying to save his soul. Valentin doesn’t buy it, saying he’s way too close to Anna. Peter asks if Valentin is absolutely sure, and Valentin says he is, unless Griff told him otherwise. He asks what connection Peter has to Griff, and Peter says Griff knows who he really is. Valentin calls him an idiot, asking if he knows what he’s done. He’s screwed them both.

Nelle tells Dante everything was fine at first, then things got tense. Ava gave her a gift from her registry, a mobile with penguins. Nelle explains that newborns see better in black and white. She had no idea it would remind Carly of Morgan, but Carly thought it was deliberate, and said awful things. She got away to the nursery. Ava says Carly chased her off in tatters. Dante asks what happened when Carly found her, and Nelle says more of the same. Carly told her everyone was better off without her. She didn’t want to get the baby stressed, so she tried to get away. Carly caught her at the top of the stairs. She asks if they can finish later, but Dante says they’re almost done. Nelle continues, telling him that Carly grabbed her by the arms and shook her, screaming that she didn’t want Nelle to get her hands on her son, meaning Michael, and pushed her. Dante thanks her for her cooperation, and says, one more question. Carly mentioned a blanket was involved in the struggle at the top of the stairs. Nelle doesn’t know what she’s talking about; there was no blanket. Dante asks if she’s sure, and Ava tells him, if Nelle says there’s no blanket, there’s no blanket.

Jason tells Carly it’s going to be okay. They know it’s Nelle; they just have to prove it. Carly says Sonny is right. There’s no way Nelle could have gotten the blanket. Jason suggests maybe someone has it, and has no idea what they have. He says the blanket is real, the scarf is real, and so were the break-ins. Nelle left a trail somewhere. There has to be proof, and he’ll find it. Carly says Sonny thinks she’s going crazy. Jason says he sees her pain, and he’s grieving too. Carly asks if Jason can talk to him. He says he’ll try, but Sonny doesn’t trust his judgement when comes to her. Carly says, because he believes in her. He says he always will, and promises it will be okay (the word of the day).

Valentin asks Peter why he confided in Griff. Peter says he didn’t. He went to Griff for a Huntington’s disease test, and when Griff found out Faison was a carrier, he ran a DNA test without his permission.  He played on Griff’s sympathies for Maxie’s sake, promising to be a model, law-abiding citizen. He kept his end of the bargain. Valentin says he doesn’t realize how close Griff and Anna are. There’s no way he’s not going to tell her. Anna will be crushed when she realizes that Valentin knew all along. Peter suggests Valentin get rid of Anna like he did Robert.

Andre says Drew is asking him to erase everything he is, but Drew says just Jason’s memories. Andre says there’s no guarantee he’ll survive a second procedure intact. He doesn’t know if Drew’s memories are gone or just not accessible; it’s not that easy. Drew says if there’s a remote chance it will work, he has to do it.

Jason tells Sonny that Carly is okay. Sonny says she’s sick, but he loves her. He thinks she’s unraveling, and it’s best to take a step back. He doesn’t want this getting worse. Diane tells them that there’s not going to be an arraignment until tomorrow. The judge wants to give the police more time to investigate.

Nelle thinks she and Michael should talk about it, but Michael says, later; she needs rest. She says, fair enough, and tells him to try and have fun at the Nurses’ Ball. He says he’s not going. He’s staying with her, and he refuses to change his mind. Kim comes in, and tells Nelle she’ll be more comfortable in a regular room. She’ll be going to the Ball, but can be contacted if Nelle needs anything. Nelle says her favorite things are right there.

Chase tells Dante that the statements from the staff don’t contradict anything they’ve heard so far. Dante says, Nelle claims the same thing. Chase asks what’s their next move?

Diane tells Carly that there’s no arraignment until tomorrow, and Carly say she can make it one night. Dante says the baby is fine, and so is Nelle. Carly says, thank God, and Dante says it’s time for everyone to leave.

Ava says it’s a shame Nelle will miss her debut, but she has a good excuse. Nelle suggests having Griff record it. Ava tells her to stay warm. Hospital rooms can be cold; she should ask for an extra blanket. She leaves, and Nelle says she knows Michael doesn’t want to talk about it, but what does he think will happen to his mom?

Chase cuffs Carly, saying it’s standard procedure on counts of attempted murder. Diane doesn’t disagree, but says if the court best not infringe one iota on her client’s civil rights. Carly tells Sonny to get home. Josslyn is going to the Ball with Oscar, and he needs to coordinate with Kim. She ask him to tell Michael that she loves him and the baby. Chase leads her out.

Finn looks at the will for a moment, and gathers everything up. He asks Alexis what it’s going to be, a saunter or sashay? She thinks she’ll be safe with a stroll. He says he’s going with shimmying.

Anna gets an email from Henrik, accepting her invitation, and asking for a time and place. He says they have a lot of catching up to do.

Drew asks Peter if he’s seen Sam, and Peter says, not recently. Drew asks him to tell her that he’s looking for her. Peter asks if everything is okay, and Drew says he thinks he found a way to get back everything he lost.

On the phone, Valentin orders plane tickets for two adults and a child – one way. They’re not coming back.

Tomorrow, the Nurses’ Ball. Carla Hall from The Chew makes an appearance.

Below Deck Mediterranean

Adam is back? Why?

We start off docked in Naples. Hannah has also returned. Captain Sandy says they’re going to smash this season out of the park. Let’s hope they don’t smash the boat like those guys did last season on Below Deck the original. Chef Adam spent his off-time cooking in the woods, and has never felt like more of a chef. The captain tells us they have the potential to be great, which is why they’re back, but there’s no second chance after this second chance.

Bosun Conrad comes on board next. Followed by Kasey, the third stew. Lead deckhand Joao is next. He’s from Zimbabwe, and oddly enough, that’s where Hannah’s parents are from. Yachting was his only way out. Adam is jealous of Conrad’s name because it has rad in it. Sigh. Where is Chef Ben when I need him? Second stew Brooke arrives. It’s a small yachting world, as she’s worked with Hannah’s best friend. Hannah is hoping to be able to wake up without daggers in her back this season. Deckhands Jamie and Colin round out the crew.

Captain Sandy goes over the rules. She tells them not to be her first thought in the morning, or it means it will be their last day on the boat.

Adam says the stews are super cute, but so is having a job. Jamie says most people assume she’s a stew because she’s female. The crew gets the boat ready for the first guests. Conrad goes over things with the deckhands, telling them he praises in public, but gives critiques in private. Joao makes sure the deckhands know that he defers to Conrad if there’s a conflict of information. Everyone is shocked that Conrad is only twenty-three. He hates when people continually point out his age Hannah goes over the schedule with the stews. Her job is to make the boat run smoothly, and she tells them not to take it personally if she’s short with them. Brooke says she started dating an old friend, and it’s her first time away from him. Kasey says that she did pageants, but also has a psychology degree. That’s good. She’ll need it.

The captain calls Conrad, Adam, and Hannah to the bridge to go over the preference sheets. Nichelle is the primary, and owns a sports management firm. The guests are looking to surf and use the water toys. Captain Sandy says they’ll pick the guests up in Capri. She wants them wowed by the food and the service, and says they’re going to make it happen.

Kasey is puzzled by the ironing board. She lives at home, and it’s her first time doing laundry. She wants to prove that she’s more than the princess everyone thinks she is – even though she is. The crew changes into their whites.

Why don’t these guests look like they’re sports minded? I’m not a person who puts a lot of stock in appearances, but they look like rumpled messes. I hope the primary isn’t intending to hand out business cards. The introductions are made, and Captain Sandy says they’re going to smash it out of the park, because she’s stuck on baseball references. Hannah gives the tour. Jamie wonders if the guests have bricks in their luggage. Ha-ha! My father used to say that about my purse. Captain Sandy says if you’re a captain, and claim not to be nervous taking out a new boat with a new crew, you’re full of sh*t. Hannah makes cocktails, and One of the guests is fixated on getting some nuts to go with that. She keeps asking where her nuts are, and it’s killing all of us not to make jokes. Conrad can see Joao wants to be bosun, but he’s not yet.

Kasey gets seasick, and Hannah is now down a stew on the first day. Kasey explains the boat she’d previously been on, never left the dock. Geez, she might have explored her reaction to being on a moving boat before taking the job. The guest gripes about the nuts again, because it’s been a whole twenty-three minutes. In her interview, Hannah says, you’re not succumbing, bitch, so calm down. Seriously, she’s asked where they are like, once a minute. Even after the nuts come, there are complaints.

They drop anchor, and it’s lunchtime. Adam says it’s a new boat, a new crew, and a new him. The entrée is a coconut shrimp dish that looks amazing, but I’m not crazy about coconut being in anything except a dessert. The ladies tell Hannah that they want to meet the guests on another boat narby, so they can flirt, and Nichelle calls Hannah sweetheart, which I’m sure thrills her. The tender is loaded with champagne, and the guests depart. I’m hoping the other boat is filled with gay men. The other captain isn’t cool with them visiting, so they go back. One of the guests (henceforth known as Idiot) wants to “help” Colin dock, and Colin tries to be polite in telling her she can’t touch the equipment. In his interview, he tells us that if he had an artist draw a picture of the worst person in the world, it would be her.

As usual, the dinner table is beautiful, royal blue and golden yellow, with tiny lights and shiny objects. Adam makes Italian food. Idiot makes a face at the salad. Kasey doesn’t want to let everyone down, but wants to barf every single second. Mmm… pasta… Mmm… asparagus… Idiot says her dog eats food like this, and it’s unacceptable. Nichelle says it’s not a dinner presentation, and she doesn’t eat out of a bowl. This is killing me. Okay, I have to. She should eat out of bowl – on the floor. They demand to see Adam, and he’s met at the door by Idiot, who says she hates the food and wants to open the wine. She toddles off to Brooke and asks her to open it. Methinks she’s had enough already, as she doesn’t seem steady and keeps playing with her hair like a teenager. Nichelle says it’s more like a lunch service, and she’s shocked with the presentation. She tells Adam to never bring another dinner in a bowl. Idiot says it looks like slop, and they complain about not wanting starch. I’m going to have to say this too. It sure doesn’t look like they don’t eat starch. Idiot demands a grilled cheese with truffles. In his interview, Adam says the dish he made is traditionally served in a bowl, so give him a little respect. Non-traditionally, I agree with him.

Hannah asks what else they’d like, and they say spaghetti. In her interview, she says they remind her of The Three Bears. Nichelle says they’re on the boat for vacation, not to complain. So why are they complaining so much? Kasey tries to eat some bread. Hannah tells Adam the guests want pasta now, and he’s like, wtf? Omg, these people are the worst. The really sad part is, when they see themselves, they’ll probably think they were on point. Adam makes an awesome tuna tartare that I’m sure they’ll hate. He’d hoped to start off with a bang, but got bitching and complaining, and can’t be more sad.

Kasey is still upchucking at breakfast. Mmm… breakfast. In her interview, Kasey says she’s so sick, she physically can’t do the job. Hannah says if she can’t, they’ll have to get someone who can. Hannah asks the guests if they slept well. No surprise, they say, not at all. Nichelle wants a chat with the captain. She says everything is wrong, and it’s taking away from them having good time. They’re used to luxury vacations, and she wants to communicate her concerns.

Nichelle lumbers up to the bridge. She tells Captain Sandy that she’s not having a good time. Outside, thunder starts to rumble.

This season, disappointment over a beach picnic; lots of drinking; Kasey kisses Conrad; Brooke dances with Adam; Captain Sandy says service is sucking, she doesn’t want to babysit Conrad, and she’s ready to fire both Kasey and Conrad. It looks like rough seas ahead, both literally and figuratively.

The Haves and the Have Nots

Candace tries to wake Oscar. She dumps a bucket of water on him, but nothing. Just foam coming out of his mouth. She calls the bar and says there’s a situation. New bartender says he’ll be right back, and heads up to her room.

Candace says she gave him the usual cocktail Rocky gave her. She thinks it was rum. She asks if he knows what to do or not, and he says he does. He moves Oscar and Oscar spits up. The bartender takes a shot of adrenaline out of a kit, and it does the trick. He says she should be glad he was there, and Candace tells him get his arrogant ass out. Oscar heaves, and she tells him not to ruin things for her. He asks what she did. She asks him where they’re at and he gets it on the second try. He asks what the hell she gave him. She tells him to relax and she wants her money. He says drugging him isn’t the way to get it. She tells him get the hell out, and grabs up his clothing and bag. She tells him be glad he’s still breathing, and throws his stuff into the hallway. She slams the door behind him. He yells that she’ll regret this. She calls for someone to clean up.

Gia texts Candace saying Jim is there. Candace replies, telling her to make him the right drink and stay the night with him. Downstairs, Gia and Jim order drinks. He asks why she dragged him out of bed; what is she up to? She was hoping he was up to something, but he says he doesn’t have all night. She suggests they go to the room, and tells the bartender to send the drinks up. Candace calls down and grills the bartender. She shows up while he’s still talking to her, telling him not to roll his eyes and just do his job. He thanks her for the job. He says Rocky told him she once had a stable, and is starting again. She says she can trust Rocky, but doesn’t know if she can trust him. She says she’s nice, but coldblooded, and if he messes this up for her, she’ll gut him. He apologizes for being arrogant, and starts talking about a cop pulling him over and trying to feel him up. Candace says he talks too much, but asks what the cop’s name was. He doesn’t know. She describes Justin, and he asks if she knows him. She says she’ll keep the information in her back pocket.

In his room, Oscar gets only a blank screen on his laptop. He’s pissed. He calls the desk, and says he needs a new laptop. He can’t use an open computer. The concierge says the computer store doesn’t open until 9 am, and Oscar hangs up. He calls back for a car to take him in the morning. He swears he’ll kill Candace if she messed this up.

Rocky and the concierge talk.  The concierge says he has it figured out. Rocky says Candace has something to figure out too. She had him get Oscar’s passwords. He tells the concierge about Oscar stealing accounts, and the concierge tells him that Oscar just called about needing a new computer. Rocky asks if she did it, but he doesn’t know. Rocky says she’s up to something, and hopes she cuts him in on the deal. He got the numbers for her. The concierge tells him not to hold his breath. Rocky wants to find out what’s going on, and when he leaves, the concierge texts Kathryn.

Melissa sits in Hanna’s kitchen. Hanna asks if she’s seen Benny, but she hasn’t. Hanna asks if she slept okay, but she says she didn’t sleep. She thanks Hanna for letting her stay there. She’s sorry about last night; she was out of her head. Hanna says the woman she’s dealing with is out of her head every day and night. Melissa asks for coffee. Hanna says it’s not good for the baby, but Melissa says she doesn’t care. She says the baby isn’t wanted. She forced herself on Veronica’s gay, drunk son. She starts crying, and Hanna says she’s sorry. Hanna doesn’t know about an unwanted baby, but knows about an unwanted pregnancy. She tells Melissa when her baby was born, she was in love, and prays the same thing happens to her. Melissa says Hanna sounds like her mother. Hanna tells her that bad things sometimes just happen, but she has to keep the faith. She’s sorry Melissa is going through this, and Melissa says, not as sorry as she is. Hanna says, like it or not, she’s going to look out for her. She has to go to work, but Benny is there. She promises things will get better.

Erica tells David she made breakfast, but he doesn’t have time. He tells her it’s best if she stays there. He understands if she’s stir crazy, but this weekend they’ll get away. How about springing for a TV? Erika says she’s starting to think he likes her, and almost says I love you. She gets all, duuuh, and he says he understands. He tells her that he feels the same, but it scares him. She tells him to go handle his son, and they’ll talk about this stuff later.

Hanna arrives at Kathryn’s. Kathryn is glad to see her, and glad she’s coming back to work. Hanna thanks her, and says she doesn’t know where to start. Kathryn is concerned about Wyatt, and asks about Benny. Hanna says the police haven’t made a move, so she’s sitting tight. Kathryn knows what that’s like. She says Jim is back. Hanna isn’t asking about her love life, and Kathryn says it’s just a lie. She wants to know about Hanna’s date. Hanna says it was great, and tells her about seeing Stephanie Mills. She forgot what it was like to laugh. Kathryn understands, and asks if she’s going to see Derek again. Hanna says if he calls, and Kathryn says he will. He said he had a great time. Kathryn wishes she had a man, and Hanna says she’s married. Kathryn says, whatever, and asks Hanna to show her how to work the microwave.

When they get to the kitchen, Kathryn says, look who’s here, and jets. Derek tells Hanna it’s not his fault; Kathryn pretended the stove was broken. He moves in for a kiss, but Hanna asks what he’s doing. He says he was feeling it, and she says he’s sure of himself. He says he’s sure he likes her, and Hanna says, they just met, and she has work to do. Then she relents, but says they’re not doing this every day. He kisses her forehead. These two are too cute together.

Veronica tracks Melissa on the computer. She calls Benny. He debates, then picks up. He asks what’s up. She says Melissa is at his house; she knows these things. She says they’re all alike. They want to throw away a good woman who’s been good to them, for the next young thing. He came in her house, and disrespected her. Does he think she’s not getting back at him? Melissa is going to marry her son. Benny says her son is gay, and Veronica tells Benny not to talk to her about him. Benny says he knows he doesn’t want her, and she says, that is clear. She tells Benny that she will get back at him, and take care of him real good. She hangs up.

Melissa knocks on Benny’s door. She’s sorry about everything. He asks if she talked to her mother. She has to figure out somewhere to stay. She tells him that his mother said could stay there. Benny says he didn’t know she was pregnant, and thinks she should figure out what to do and where to go. She says she needs a day or two, and tells him that he can sleep with her. He says she’s not a whore, and he’s not going to sleep with her in exchange for a bed and shower. Melissa tells him that she didn’t say that, but his mother said she can stay, and it’s his mommy’s house.

Jeffrey is in the interrogation room, and Veronica walks in. Jeffrey calls for the guard. Veronica sits down, and says she can get him out; just sign the affidavit. I’m not sure how he’d do that, since his hands seems to be cuffed behind him. Jeffrey reads it, and tells her it says Benny did it – alone. She says, uh-huh, and she can make it stick. He asks if she’s serious. She says Benny buried the body and threatened him. Jeffrey says the body is inadmissible, and she says, for Candace. His testimony can put Benny away. He asks what she’s up to? He says Benny turned her down, didn’t he? He wouldn’t sleep with her. She gets it; Jeffrey wants him, but are they really going to fight over a man? He laughs, and says he turned her down; she’s too old for him. He’s not going to sign it, and Veronica says he’s protecting his man. Jeffrey tells her to stop it, but she says, he needs to stop it. He can get out. It just says he’s not the one who stabbed Quincy. They already know there are two perpetrators, and one is a male. He doesn’t even know Benny. Jeffrey says Benny was just trying to help Candace. She says Candace decided to destroy both of them. Does he want out? Then sign it, and stop whining like a little bitch. She tells him not to remind her why she locked him in there; just sign it. He says no, and she says, then he’ll stay in there, have a trial, and go to prison. It will be a year before he can get an appeal. He’ll be caged, and all because he killed a thug and refused to give up another one. He’s a damn fool. He tells her to wait. He’ll sign it. Wow.

Candace texts Gia, asking if Jim is still asleep. He is, and she tells Gia that she wants to see her. Gia throws on a robe, and goes to Candace’s room. Candace asks if he’s knocked out, and how much he was given. Gia says not enough to notice, but he’ll feel like he had a rough night. She tells Candace that he was funny, talking about his wife. Candace slaps her, saying, bitch, you like him. Gia says she doesn’t. Candace tells her that they will never respect her, and never really want her. They’ll make her feel special and wanted, but never be seen in the light of day with her. She can cry, whine, and beg, and they’ll drop her and leave her where they found her. All they are, are johns. They want the fantasy without strings. She says, learn that, whore. It’s what she is, and will always be. She tells Gia not to come in there talking about his wife It makes Candace want to slap the sh*t out of her. She tells Gia to learn quick, and Gia says she will. Candace asks how much she made, and Gia says $1500. Candace asks how she’s supposed to live on $1400? Gia says she’s sorry.

Candace gets a text saying $4 million has been deposited to her account. She tells Gia that she can have last night’s money; she’s done with this and her. She’s good. Gia begs, saying she’ll work harder, and Candace tells her get out. Gia says she’s got it, but Candace pushes her into the hallway. She calls Candace’s name, and says she’s sorry. Candace asks if she’s crazy, and says call her name one more damn time. Candace looks at her phone all happy.

Oscar gets back with a new laptop. He sees the money is still there, and breathes a sigh of relief.

Gia gets back to the room. Jim says he slept like a rock. Gia says she’s sorry. He asks for what, and she says, nothing. He asks where she went, and she says she got some breakfast. She’s crying, and Jim says the cereal must have made her sad. She tells him that she can order something if he wants. He says it’s okay, and asks her to come over to him. He puts her on his lap, and asks what is it? She cries and says she doesn’t want to do this anymore. She wishes she had a legit job; this is too stressful. Jim says he’ll make her feel better, and tells her to take her robe off. Gia says that doesn’t make her feel better. He says, okay, and gets up. She asks if he’s leaving, and he says it’s bad enough he has to put up with this bullsh*t at home, but here and he has to pay for it? He throws a bunch of money at her, and walks out. She sits on the bed and bawls.

In the hallway, Jim’s phone rings. Oscar says, it’s done. The money is wired. Because of the type of transaction, he wasn’t able to take out his fee, and asks if Jim can write a check – today. Jim says as soon as he gets home and confirms the money is in his account. Oscar asks if he could do that now, and Jim says he is, and hangs up. Will someone please tell me if we still call it hanging up? A huge downside of cell phones is you don’t get the satisfaction of slamming a receiver down if you’re pissed off.

At the Iron Bone, the dealer looks in the bathroom for Wyatt, who’s passed out in a stall. He tells Wyatt, let’s go, and kicks him. He says it’s after nine; time for his money. Wyatt stumbles out, and they go to the ATM. Wyatt puts in his card and PIN. He asks if it’s working, and the dealer says, yeah; try it again. Wyatt says, what the hell? and the dealer asks if he’s playing games. Wyatt tells him something’s wrong. The dealer pulls out a gun, and says he’s playing games.

Next time, Erika thinks she’s been made, the dealer tells Wyatt he’s dead, and Jim tells Kathryn a tart holds the key to making her case disappear.

🌴 I didn’t get a chance to see it tonight, but The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Secrets Revealed is in rotation on Bravo. I love the Secrets shows because they’re more lighthearted, and we often see clips that are better than the scenes from the actual show.

💲 On Sell It Like Serhant, Ryan helped Erick, a rental agent who works at UnDorm, an agency that focuses on first apartments for college students. Erick once had a top spot, but a rival has been trying to steal his listings and clients. New guy Collin flirts with clients, and also has the dreaded, and now outdated, man bun. Erick needed to be what he was, or he was going to be out of a job.  Ryan needed to loosen Erick up, and get him to stop taking himself so seriously. I thought Erick needed to stop saying actually so much. Ryan observed Erick in action (or not), and discovered he was pushy, but lacked energy. He was also chewing gum, which Ryan told him was rude. I’m a huge fan of gum, but even I know that. I had the misfortune of seeing myself in an audience on TV while I was chomping on a piece, and it’s decidedly unattractive. Ryan suggested Erick ask the clients questions about themselves, and engage in energetic, cool conversation. He also put Erick through more acting school exercises, like making animal noises, and sent in a ringer pretending to be a client. Erick got his game together, but his four-hour commute (two, each way) seemed to be the real stumbling block. Erick’s boss told Ryan that Erick was again his loose, happy self, but he wasn’t sure how things would go for the rest of the year. He asked Ryan what he thought about Erick’s productivity long term, and Ryan felt he should move back to the city. He said it wasn’t his normal practice to tell anyone where to live, but the commute was cramping Erick’s style. He took the liberty of hunting down Erick’s old apartment – the same one he had when he was crushing it. Erick was thrilled to be back in Manhattan, and went from getting less than one rental every three days, to getting three in one afternoon. Next time, an ex-lawyer has switched jobs to find happiness selling formal gowns, and Ryan tries on dresses.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny tells Jason there is a body; the money clip proves it. He yells at Jason to dig, but Jason insists there’s no body. Sonny is getting a mite testy.

Jordan and Anna go to the Floating Rib, which has been redecorated, and has sort of a Western feel. Jordan thinks Curtis will like it, because it’s reminiscent of Baltimore. Distracted, Anna keeps looking at her phone. Jordan asks if she’s expecting to hear from someone.

Peter reads the email urging him not to trust Valentin. Valentin appears, asking if he’s disturbing Peter. Peter says he sent him a text demanding him to call, but face-to-face is better. Valentin says they finally agree on something. Peter asks what’s so important, and Valentin asks why he’s so on edge?

At the Floating Rib, Dante hopes the kitchen is ready for him and Michael. Michael is having a baby too, and it might not top the shower, but why should the girls have all the fun?

Brad tries to guess what’s in the baby bag. Monica tells him the fate of the nations doesn’t hinge on his choice, and just make one. He guesses it’s a toy, and Olivia says basically everything counts as toy if a child is under six months. He pulls out a spoon, which Olivia points out is for teething.

At the top of the stairs, Carly tells Nelle that Michael will know exactly what the blanket is, and to give it to her. Carly grabs at the blanket, but Nelle says she can’t have it, and grabs it back. She tumbles down the stairs. Everyone comes running out of the living room. Monica asks what Carly did.

Jordan asks Anna if there are any new leads on Henrik, but there’s nothing. Jordan tells Anna how Curtis proposed when she thought she might have cancer; then they found out she was all right. Anna is glad to hear that, and Jordan says, her too. Anna says she tries not to lecture friends when she knows they’re having a hard time, since it’s hypocritical, but she’s there if Jordan needs her. She asks if Jordan thinks Curtis proposed because they thought she was sick. Jordan knows he loves her, but highly doubts marriage was on his mind before he thought he’d lose her. Anna says a close call can make a person reassess their priorities. Jordan says, or it could be a hasty promise. Anna tells her there’s something to be said for living like they’re in their final days, leaving nothing unspoken. Jordan isn’t sure she’s ready for marriage. Anna asks if she loves Curtis, but their conversation is interrupted by Finn walking into the restaurant.

Peter says with Valentin, important is synonymous with bad news, but Valentin says, not this time. He’s convinced Anna to stop searching for Henrik. Peter says if she discovered he’s really Henrik, the best-case scenario would be prison, and the worst would be her leading Jason to his doorstep, and they know how he deals with his enemies.

Jason asks Sonny if he might have dug deeper. Sonny says, no, and he’s not wrong about the location; it was seared in his brain. Jason says it was his first job, and Skully told him to leave the gun. He would have done the same thing. Sonny says the gun jams him up. It has to be there. Jason thinks both the body and gun have been moved.

Chase sees Dante and Michael, and tells Dante that he’s starting to have second thoughts about their number in the Nurses Ball. Michael starts to say something, but Dante stops him. Chase thinks they should be rehearsing; he doesn’t want to look like an idiot. Dante says a wise woman once told him, you don’t have to look good, just be good. Chase leaves to practice, and Michael asks Dante what he’s doing to him. Dante tells Michael that he never said he was a saint.

Carly says it happened so fast; suddenly Nelle was just falling. Monica tells Olivia to keep her immobile, and says someone needs to call an ambulance. Bobbie brings Monica’s doctor bag. Monica asks if Nelle can hear her. Carly says she and the baby will be okay, and Monica tells Bobbie to take Carly out of there. Josslyn asks Carly what happened. Carly says she grabbed the blanket, and Nelle grabbed it back. Ava remembers asking Nelle how far she was going to take things with Carly, and Nelle saying by the time the shower was over, Carly would be exposed for the raving lunatic she is. Carly says the blanket was like Morgan’s. Nelle was taunting her with it, and just fell.

Valentin tell Peter Jason continues to be a threat, especially if he refuses to leave Port Charles. Peter says that’s not an option. He wonders why Anna would listen to Valentin, and Valentin says they have a history. They both trained at the WSB, and have had their ups and downs, but recently formed a truce with limited cooperation. Peter asks if Valentin is just telling him what he wants to hear, and Valentin says Peter has to trust him. Peter says there’s been a new development on his end, and there’s something he needs to know.

Jordan says she knows Anna’s relationship with Finn started as a cover, but there’s something more going on. Anna says, no, and it’s irrelevant; they’re not meant to be. Jordan asks what about living life like it’s her final days, and Anna says she walked into that. Jordan suggests she go over and just say hello. She’s a big girl and can sit by herself for a while. Anna walks toward the bar, but Alexis has gotten there first.

Chase sees Jordan, and says he’s starting to find his way around. She’s glad Dante is including him. He tells her not to worry. He’ll work on things at home, so he doesn’t hit any wrong notes. Jordan doesn’t even want to know.

Josslyn asks, what if Nelle is hurt or she loses the baby? The ambulance comes, and Ava says she’ll check on Leo and Avery to make sure they don’t get upset by the paramedics coming in. Monica says she’ll alert Kim, and Brad says he’ll ride in the ambulance. Josslyn says, no, she’ll go. She tells Carly that someone has to take are of Nelle. Monica tells Nelle to hang tight.

Dante asks if Michael is terrified, but Michael says it’s not his first time. He had custody once, and helped raise Teddy. He didn’t choose to be a father, and the circumstances aren’t ideal, but it doesn’t make him any less excited. Dante asks what about the baby’s mother? Michael thinks they’ve come to common ground, and might make a good team when it comes to raising a child.

Ava says the kids are sleeping like angels. She asks Olivia to watch Avery. She’s like to go to the hospital. She prays Nelle is all right. She leaves, and Carly says she has to call Michael. Bobbie tells her that Josslyn said she’d call, and they’ll meet them at the hospital. Carly says the baby has to be okay. Monica asks, what the hell happened? Bobbie says, now is not the not time; it was an accident. Monica says, was it? Carly has been trying to get Nelle out of Michael’s life from day one, and she’s been out of control all afternoon. She reminds Carly that she lost a baby on that same flight of stairs twenty years ago, and knows how dangerous it is to have an altercation on the top step. Bobbie suggests they go to the hospital, but Monica says they’re not going anywhere. She’s calling the police.

Jason tells Sonny that he had Spinelli do a search, and there’s been no mention of a body being found. Sonny says maybe someone is going to use it as leverage. Maybe Mike heard someone planning to use it against him. Jason says if they stay much longer, they’ll have to answer questions they don’t want to.

Peter tells Valentin that he just had a talk with Sam. He thought he could use her impending divorce to drive her out of Aurora, but she wanted to stay on. Maybe it will work in his favor. While she’s out looking for Henrik, he’ll be in her backyard. Valentin tells him not to trust anyone. Peter says, except for him, and Valentin says, of course.

Anna goes up to the bar, telling Alexis and Finn that she hopes she’s not interrupting; she’s just getting drinks. Finn says the place looks great, and it’s more relaxed. Anna says Felicia did a good job. Chase bumps into Finn, who says, twice in one day. Chase tells him to dial down the paranoia. He’s not following Finn. Alexis thinks maybe they should move. Chase gets a call.

Dante tells Michael that he saw him and Nelle, and they seem to be enthusiastic to be parenting. Chase tells Dante that he got a 415 called at the Quartermaines. Dante says, assault. Josslyn calls Michael, telling him that he needs to come to GH – now. He asks if she’s okay, but she says, it’s not her; it’s Nelle.

Brad tells Lucas that Nelle hasn’t regained consciousness. Lucas calls for a bunch of medical stuff, and Deanna says she’s on it. Josslyn comes in, and Nelle starts to wake up. Lucas tells her try not to move. She asks if the baby is okay, and Josslyn asks too.

Jordan tells Finn she noticed the tension. He says he knows she and Anna are close. She says she was actually talking about Chase, but go ahead. She’s all ears.

Alexis asks for sparkling water, and whatever Anna would like, adding she has this. Anna asks what’s with Finn and Chase? Alexis doesn’t get it either, but doesn’t think it’s her place to interfere with Finn’s relationship with his brother. Anna says, Finn has a brother? Alexis says, half-brother. He didn’t tell her?

Valentin asks if there’s something Peter wants to say. It pains Peter to admit it, but Valentin has a point; the walls are closing in on him. Valentin says he’ll help with deflecting Anna and Sam. Peter asks what he did to deserve Valentin’s friendship? Valentin says he’s seen himself in Peter. They both know what it’s like, making their way without an ethical or moral reference point; the judgement of the world, and everybody pointing fingers without understanding the circumstances, or what drives them. Peter confesses that without Valentin, he’d be quite alone. He’s thankful for the support, but he’s gotten more out of the friendship than Valentin has. Why?

Carly says they should be at the hospital, but Bobbie tells her if she leaves before the police get there, it will just escalate things. Chase arrives, saying he got a report that there was an assault. Carly says it was an accident, and Bobbie tells him that Nelle fell. He asks if anyone saw it. Carly says she was with her. They had an argument, and she lost her balance. Monica says no one knows what happened. They hated each other, and lately Carly has been making Nelle’s life difficult. She was badgering her at the party. Carly admits to being upset, but she would never push her, Chase asks if anyone else saw, but Bobbie says, no. He asks who helped, and Olivia guesses she got to Nelle first. Chase realizes she’s Dante’s mom, and asks if she witnessed anything, like Carly badgering Nelle.

Josslyn asks again if the baby will be okay. Michael comes in, and asks if Nelle is okay. Lucas says she’s in and out of consciousness. She got hit in the head pretty hard, and he’s ordered some tests. Dante shows up, and asks what happened. Nelle says she fell down the stairs. Michael asks if someone did this too her, and she says, Carly pushed her. Everyone is like, whoa.

Jason asks Sonny if he thinks it’s possible Mike is involved. Sonny says there are people in Brooklyn who have long memories, and Mike was definitely trying to warn him. He’ll ask Mike again. He doesn’t feel good about it, but it’s life or death. Hopefully, Mike is having a good day, and knows what he’s talking about. Sonny thanks Jason for dropping everything. Jason says he’ll always have Sonny’s back.

Valentin tells Peter they’re friends. Peter says Valentin has been there his whole life. Valentin says when saw how Faison treated him, he wanted to help. Until he had Charlotte, he never thought he’d have a child, but he was fortunate to mentor Peter. He was a shy, unloved boy, and turned into a strong, successful man. It meant something; he’s proud of him. Peter says he’s lucky to have him, but if he’s about to advise him to leave Port Charles, don’t. They’re having a moment; don’t ruin it. Valentin asks if he’s sure there’s not something else on his mind, but Peter says, that’s it. He’ll find a way to deal with Sam. Valentin says he’ll be in touch. When Valentin is gone, Peter goes back to his computer, and replies to the email.

Finn asks where he should start, and Jordan says, from the beginning. Anna comes back with the drinks. She mouths that she wants to talk to Finn, and Jordan tells her to take all the time she needs. Finn says she has good friends. Anna says, he has a brother; he never told her. He says it never came up. He guesses they both have secrets, and tells her to have a great night. As he walks away, her phone dings. The email says, if you really are my mother, prove it

Michael tells Nelle that she’s confused. His mom would never do that. She’d never hurt Nelle or the baby. Nelle says, she was so angry, and Josslyn says, she was pretty upset. Ava arrives, and says it was partially her fault. She had the audacity to give Nelle a mobile with penguins on it. Carly became unhinged. She went upstairs to look for Nelle, and the next thing, Nelle was at the bottom of the staircase with Carly over her. Dante says, she pushed Nelle on purpose? Nelle says, yes; she wanted her to fall. Michael says it doesn’t make sense. He asks Josslyn, what the hell happened?  Lucas says, everyone out. He’s going to do a CT scan. Only Michael can stay.

Outside, Josslyn asks Dante, what if they’re not okay? He hugs her.

Olivia tells Chase it was a family gathering; families get heated. She doesn’t remember what was said; there was a lot going on. Chase asks if she’s willing to put her statement on record. She says Carly’s son, Morgan, was killed a couple of years ago. She might have heard Carly say she didn’t want Nelle to say his name, but Nelle was using as a way to hurt Carly. Tempers were flying all over before anyone fell. Carly says Nelle made a blanket that looked like the one Morgan has as a baby, and was torturing her with it. She grabbed the blanket, and Nelle grabbed it back. Anyone claiming to know anything wasn’t there. Chase leaves the room, and Olivia says she didn’t mean to throw Carly under the bus. Monica asks why she’s apologizing. Her great-grandchild is fighting for its life, and Carly was furious at Nelle. Chase comes back in and asks where the blanket is. Carly says it dropped when Nelle fell, but he says there’s no blanket.

Anna sits at a table with Jordan. She reads the email, and replies.

Peter’s laptop chimes. He sees the reply – your birthday is June 13, 1976 (which makes him older than I thought he was). Please meet with me.

Jason says possibly Spinelli missed something, Sonny hates admitting it, but Spinelli doesn’t miss a beat. He’ll talk to his dad, and let Jason know what he comes up with. He tells Jason to get some rest. Jason says nobody has been digging there for years. If the body was moved, it was a while ago. No one has used it against him, so maybe nobody will. Sonny hopes so. Jason leaves. Sonny calls Carly gets voicemail.

Carly tells Chase maybe the blanket fell. He says he checked everywhere. Carly says she didn’t make it up. Nelle crocheted a blanket like Morgan’s, so she could mess with her. Josslyn asked her to talk to Nelle, and she found her in the nursery, where she was pretending to cry. Nelle has been tormenting her for months, hinting that Morgan is still alive – the phone calls, the things that happened at the house – they’re all Nelle. She’s not making it up. They know who Nelle is, and she’ll do anything to get her hands on Michael. Carly is never going to let that happen. She says she’s not staying one more second. She’s going to the hospital, where Michael needs her. Chase says he has no grounds to hold her until he gets a statement from the victim. She opens the door, and Dante is there.

Michael tells Nelle that he’s sorry it happened to her. He’s going to make things right. Everything will be okay. Their baby is strong, and hanging in there. No matter what, he’s by her side. He’s not going anywhere.

Carly asks what Dante is doing there, and how Nelle is. He says Lucas is running tests. Nelle is in and out of consciousness, but was awake enough to give her account. She says Carly pushed her. Monica says, this changes things. Dante is sorry, but he has to place Carly under arrest.

Tomorrow, Andre tells Drew he can’t get the memories without the flash drive, Griff tells Peter to get out of Port Charles while he still can, and Carly tells Sonny that Nelle set her up.

Vanderpump Rules – The Reunion – Part Two

When we last left, Jax was ranting and raving about Scheana not calling him when his father died, and she ran off to get her eyelashes re-glued. Andy says Scheana did text him, and texted Brittany every day. She comes back, and Andy asks if she’s okay. She says, no, but she’s a professional. A professional what?

Lala’s boyfriend is the next topic. Andy asks if he was married when they started dating, and she says he was legally separated, so she doesn’t see where she did anything wrong. With a show of hands, we see the entire cast has met him, and they all claim he’s very charming. Lala’s boyfriend hangs with Martin Scorsese, who apparently loves the show. I literally lol when Tom suggests it inspires his work. Lala talks about the gifts she gets, but says she contributes past the cap on her rent, and also toward the leased cars. That’s right. Cars. As in more than one. She says they call him a sugar daddy, but James gets his rent paid by a dude. James says he basically shares an apartment where he sleeps on the couch, but apologies for being hypocritical. We see a clip of roommate Paul, who has a cute little dog. Andy asks what about James’s fat, old man comment, referring to Lala’s man, and he says he’s apologized for that, but the group gets on him for doing it over and over. Lala tells him that he’s dismissed.

Andy asks if the purpose of the Eff-Jax party was to cheer Brittany up or bug Jax? Brittany is glad the girls were there for her, and Jax says as hated as he’s been, he’s glad she has them too. Andy asks about Jax saying it’s his relationship, and they should stay out of it. Kristen says it’s bullsh*t because he wants them to shut up, but it’s their business because they care. Jax swears he only slept with Faith once, although Faith says differently. Lisa thinks it was premeditated to get herself on the show. Andy asks if Lala regrets playing the tape for Brittany, but she says Brittany wanted to hear it. Tom doesn’t think the party was the right time to do it.

Andy asks if Katie regrets being hard on Lala, and she says she does. Lala says when someone attacks you, it’s easier to forgive them than when they attack someone you care about. Andy says Scheana seemed angry that Lala made up with Katie, and Scheana says it felt fake. Well, Scheana ought to know. A viewer asks why she felt the need to call out Katie, and Scheana says Lala was one of her closest friends. Katie questions her intentions, and Scheana says, Katie and Lala are best friends now; so they’re welcome. Lala suggests she not throw around the term best friends. Katie is asked if she believes Schwartz didn’t remember kissing the girl in Vegas. She does, and he says he was utterly hammered, and sabotaging his relationship in the most cowardly way. Jax can relate. He’s glad he wasn’t in the hot seat, but wishes it had been something else that unseated him. Andy asks how Katie got over it so quickly. She says she looked at bigger picture. Life is short; move on if you can. James says it’s another level when you’re married, but thinks Katie forgave too easy. Schwartz says he wanted to click his heels and disappear; he felt like a possum’s pr*ck. This brings the conversation to a mini halt, and he say he was watching Smokey and the Bandit. Andy asks if he considered not drinking. Schwarz says it’s not every night, but when he drinks, he drinks hard. We flash back to one of his blackout nights Mexico. Katie says it’s concerning because anything could happen, but he’s been handling himself well. Tom says Schwartz has a hard time turning down shots. Lisa says she would sever a relationship with a partner who was getting blackout drunk. She tells him this isn’t going to happen in the new restaurant.

Andy brings up everyone’s favorite national holiday – Stassi’s birthday. She created this elaborate costume party, and Patrick didn’t bother dressing up. Unless we want to count his man bun. Andy talks about her blowing Katie off, and asks if Patrick’s presence played into her mind. She says she was wasted and stressed, trying to make everyone happy and make him happy. Andy says Kristen and Katie didn’t run after her this time. Katie says when they came back to the friendship, she’d decided it was going to be different, including not coddling Stassi. Kristen says she acted like an asshole, so she was treated like one. Stassi says she misses the days when they ran after her.

The guys’ hair-dos are debated. Andy asks why Lisa gave James another chance. She thought it was time, and says he’s been doing well. He asks if she has any reticence about the name of his event – See You Next Tuesday – and she says she has a sense of humor. I actually think it’s amusing too, although if you call me that word, you’d best be ready for a crack across the face. Lisa says, in her London days, James’s father was the man about town. He managed George Michael, who was also James’s godfather. James says they spent holidays with him when James was a kid. Andy says he’d read when George passed away, he gave money to his godchildren, and asks if James got any. Rather than telling Andy this is possibly the rudest question ever, James says it’s still in the works. Andy asks why his father’s visit was so emotional, and James says his father is his best friend, and it’s been a long road. Lisa says what James’s parents have through has been tough, and it’s taken its toll on James. Kristen says it was hard to watch. She felt like there was a lot of pressure on the kids when it wasn’t their problem.

Andy says Jax pissed off Scheana when he said Rob didn’t love her, and asks if she retaliated by setting Brittany up with Adam. She says Brittany and Jax are still together (why do they keep reminding me?), and she was just introducing Adam to the group; she didn’t suggest cheating. Stassi tells Scheana she said it on camera, Jax messed with her relationship, and she was going to mess with his. Jax says Adam is a nice guy and was polite about it. Probably because he was concerned Jax might throw down his sweater and try to fight him. Jax says he thought Scheana was a friend, and Scheana says she’s always made it clear she would choose Brittany if he as in the wrong. Lala says no one was bringing in a guy to swoop Brittany up. Brittany says she knew it was to boost her confidence. Scheana says she wanted Brittany to see there were other guys out there, when Jax was treating her like sh*t.

Billie Lee joins the group. She grew up in either Indiana or India. She has that Valley Girl way of talking – like Scheana, but not as nerve-jangling – and transitioned when she came to LA. She was in the awkward stage, and had hard time getting a job. We learn that if you apply for a restaurant position in LA, a headshot is required. Andy says Billie seemed welcomed at SUR, and she says they’re family now. Everyone compliments her, saying she’s nice, kind, and has amazing energy. Andy asks what the shopping process for a vagina is like. Lisa wonders if shopping is the right word, and Lala tells her it’s like shopping for a Chanel bag – you know when it’s right. Billie says she looked at porn. Lisa says those are edited, and Billie says she wanted a pretty, edited vagina. Why not? Andy asks about her first impression of Stassi, and Billie says she was nice (the word of the night). He brings up Ariana saying she hoped that Billie schooled Stassi’s privileged, white ass, and Ariana says it was because she didn’t know she was ignorant. This was in reference to Stassi saying she was tired of “those people” politicizing awards shows. It’s actually unclear as to who she meant by “those people,” but if she meant the Hollywood elite, I have to agree with her. Andy asks Ariana if she thinks Stassi is a bigot, and Ariana says, no, and she never did. She also knew Billie could handle it int the best way possible. Andy asks Lisa about being on Stassi’s podcast, and Lisa says she’d had a few drinks first. Andy talks about Billie going out with Jeremy, and Billie says they “hang out.” Andy asks why Kristen thought their date should be in a public place, and Kristen says she thought Jeremy just wanted to bang Billie. She’s seen him with other girls. Andy says Stassi called him creepy, and Stassi says most guys have their creepy moments, and the wedding was one of his. We flash back to that, and again, Stassi and I are in agreement. Lisa says they put a damper on the date for Billie, and Stassi says she had no idea she would hurt Billie’s feelings and wishes she’d said something. Billie says she was thrown off. She’d never gotten a creepy vibe. Andy asks if her dating life has improved since the show, but that’s a no. Andy thinks it will happen, and we bid Billie goodbye.

Jax going to Reiki is next. Andy asks if the tapping works, and we see a clip of this stupidity. Right away, Stassi is like, nope, and Lisa says Kelsey was feeding his ego. Stassi says Kelsey told him to leave Brittany, without even knowing her or what was going on. Jax conveniently doesn’t remember telling Kelsey, love you, when signing off on the phone. Andy says it was stunning to watch him set out croissants and incense – although Andy says incest, which gets quite a reaction from everyone. He corrects it, and I wonder wtf kind of slip was that? Jax insists there was nothing sexual about it, and everyone calls bullsh*t. Andy asks why he let the Reiki specialist use his real name (Jason), and not his girlfriend? He asks if Brittany felt threatened, and she says she didn’t think anything at the time, but watching it, she could see they had googly eyes with heart emojis popping out of them. Andy asks Kristen why she flew Brittany’s family out, and Kristen says Brittany kept wanting her mom. She was afraid Brittany would go home and not come back. Andy asks if Jax was more irritated because he was blindsided,or because he had to face the family, and Jax says he didn’t want everyone involved. He thought that was messed up, and caused their decisions to be influenced by everyone else. Jax’s criticism of Brittany is brought up, and Jax admits he found cowardly reasons to argue, no matter what was going on. Brittany says she knows she didn’t deserve any of it. Lisa is surprised Brittany’s mom forgave Jax. Brittany says she was raised to see the best in everyone. Some people think it’s a bad thing, but she’s proud of that quality. Better to be happy and positive than have resentment.

Andy says this season Lala had a goal in uniting women, and asks what her definition of feminism is. She says there’s no one way to be a feminist. For her, it’s letting it all hang out. Lisa loves her, but doesn’t quite thinks that’s feminism. She’s talked openly about a BJ for jewelry, so it’s an oxymoron. Andy says she does drive a car paid for by her boyfriend, and has body shamed others. He asks how that fits in with her brand of girl power. Lala says when she feels attacked, she goes on the attack. James interrupts, and she says she’s speaking. Lala says she never considered herself a feminist; she just wants to give power to the p*ssy. Ariana thinks everyone should do what they want with what they have. Brittany says confidence is important. When she gained weight, it was hard. They need to support, lift each other up, and never judge. You don’t know what someone is going through. Preach it, sister! Jax says, hashtag metoo, and everyone is like, no, that’s not about this. He says he thought it was for women power. Andy says he’ll explain it at lunch.

Andy says Katie is dealing with anger differently. She says she took inventory, and became more loving and accepting of herself, and in turn, it became easier to love others. Schwartz says, for long time, she was a nightmare of a human being. Lisa asks if he was perfect, and he says, of course not. Andy asks about Katie’s accident, and she says she was on a roof with some friends. She sat on the edge of a skylight, and fell twenty-five feet. Note to self: no sitting on skylights. She had a lot of broken bones, and hematoma. We look at the video she made shortly afterward. Andy says it’s hard to watch. Katie says she hadn’t seen it in a long time. She thinks it affected her anger issues 100%, but didn’t want to talk about it. Schwartz says she was simultaneously fragile and resilient. Lisa says she never played the victim, and barely mentioned it. She’s happy that Katie finally shared it. Katie says she had a bad relationship with herself, and her body, and it affected her other relationships. She did a lot of work on herself, and can’t be happier. Schwartz says she regained full control over who he knew she was. We flash back to her telling him that it feels good to be herself. Ariana says it was the most moving thing she’s ever seen. Schwartz says it was a turning point. Katie thanks him for not giving up on her, and he thanks her for not giving up on him. Andy thanks them both for sharing.

Next time, the reunion concludes, Tom gets angry with Stassi, the James and Kristen rumor is discussed, and Jax is in the hot seat again.

May 13, 2018 – The Story of John & Naomi, Extra Useless Information, Talking About Fear & Mom’s Day

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Fear the Walking Dead

John opens the box with the matching pistols, and cleans and loads them. He sees a zombie wading through the creek. He puts a board over his ditch moat, and whacks it with an ax. Smart move to save bullets.

He lies in bed listening to Billy Bass, who I guess is his alarm clock. He washes up, makes the bed, and plays Scrabble with himself. He says, people, as he washes the breakfast dishes. He runs down a list of various words as he has coffee on the porch. He continues as he does chores. He says platypus, and uses it in his next Scrabble game.  As night falls, he watches DVDs.

There’s a sound outside. John says, not another one, and asks himself where they’re coming from. He finds Naomi in a canoe on the shore, barely conscious, and brings her in. She says she has to get back, and he tells her she’s safe, but injured. He looks at a gash in her side. The good news is, it’s not a bite. He tells her he’ll take care of it as best he can.

The next morning, he finds Naomi looking in the truck for his keys. He tells her they’re on the top of the visor, and she might want to avoid reverse. He says she has a pretty bad cut. She gets in the truck and closes the door. It won’t start, and he says it needs a new battery. He tells her if she wants to go, he might as well set her up with food and water. She should get some rest, and change the bandage on her wound too.

Inside, Naomi looks at her wound. She starts to stitch it up herself, and says she can’t. She asks John to do it, and gives him instructions, saying, just do it.

John makes fish stew for dinner. He tells Naomi, the French call it bouillabaisse, presenting her with a bowl, saying, soup is the blanket of food. He tells her to enjoy, and introduces himself. She thanks him. He says she looks like a Laura, and asks if it’s an acceptable substitute. He tells her about a job he once had, teaching kids at a pea shooting range, and says she can stay as long as she likes. She says she’ll be moving on, and he offers her food and shelter until she’s ready, but the next time she wants something, ask. He wonders if she’s a doctor or nurse, and tells her to take the bed; he only sleeps an hour or two if he’s lucky. She asks how he knew she was a nurse. He says he doesn’t know many people who could stick a needle in their side. He asks if she was a nurse until… and she says, yeah. He says it seems like forever ago, and she agrees.

Naomi is restless. She sees the couch is empty and gets up. John is cleaning the pistols. He hears her but when he turns around, she’s gone.

John whacks some more zombies in the creek area. Naomi comes out, and asks if they wash up. He says, there’s something amiss up river. He tells her that he goes to the store on Tuesday, and she says she’ll come. He thinks she should rest, but Naomi is insistent. He supposes he wouldn’t mind he company, and gives her a pair of boots, telling her there are snakes. She declines, saying she won’t be able to run in them. He leaves them on the porch in case she changes her mind.

They take the canoe down the river. She asks if he’s been there long, and he says, a good while. She asks what he did before, and he tells her that he was a police officer. She wonders why he didn’t bring his guns; she thought all cops have them, but he says they cause more problems than they solve. She asks if he liked being a cop, and he says, at one time. Zombies walk the bridge, and one falls in. Naomi takes out her knife, but John pushes it into the water with his oar, and they go past. He notes that a broken part of the bridge railing needs tending to.

John docks the boat, and they head for the store. He says it’s been in Bill’s family for sixty years. Naomi asks where Bill is now, but John doesn’t know. They closed the road for repair before things went south, and he hasn’t seen him since. They walk into a fully-stocked store, and John tells Naomi to help herself. She gets a knapsack. and fills it, while he gets supplies. Naomi moves some merchandise around, and John asks if she’s rearranging things. She explains that people need splints and dressings, and aren’t always thinking. She’s just doing her part. He tells her how his name is Dorie, like the fish, except ie.

Outside, he says they’re going to need a ladder. They fix the bridge, and John asks if he can call her Laura. She says that’s fine, but she won’t be staying long. A zombie toddles toward them, and she stabs it in the head.

While lying in bed, Laura hears a movie playing, and comes out. John says sorry for disturbing her (which my autocorrect wanted to change to disrobing her – ha-ha!). It’s usually his movie night, although every night is getting to be movie night. She gets some water, and he says he’ll turn the volume down. He asks if she wants some popcorn. She doesn’t, but she sits on the couch. I’m trying to figure out what the movie is from the dialogue we can hear, but I can’t. He tells her about the snacks he makes on movie night, and suggests concocting something.

John snoozes, and Laura looks at him. He opens his eyes, and she says she lost her child. She gets up, and goes back to bed.

Laura wants John to teach her to fish. It’s a resource, so she should know how. They go out on the river, and he instructs her. She hooks a fish, and gets all excited. He teaches her how to clean and gut it. They have it for dinner, and she thanks him. They play Scrabble.

There’s more fishing the next day, and Laura prepares it herself. That afternoon, John clips her stitches. He says she might have a scar, but nothing too bad. She thinks she should be going, since she’s healed up, but she’ll take a couple days to pack some things. John goes outside, and chops a zombie’s head in half. Laura says they need something stronger to block the opening; a car at Bill’s might still have a charge. She helped him, and it’s the least she can do. He gets wheel barrow, and loads up the zombie he downed.

At the bridge, John asks how Laura learned to hot wire a car, and she asks if he’s going to arrest her. He sees she’s got one of his pistols, and says he asked her not to go through his things. She tells him that they might need protection, but he says she’s good with a knife; the noise from the gun just brings more zombies. She says they’re no good in a box, but he wants them in a box, not out there. He gets out of the truck.

John walks through the zombies, whacking them. Laura gets the ones he doesn’t, and it’s a chopfest. They drive a truck to the opening, blocking it. Laura is on the truck, but outside of the cab, guiding John. The zombies begin to gather, and Laura tells John to shoot them. They’re pushing at the car, and one zombie breaks the window with the machete that’s poking through him, and is now six inches from John’s face. He stabs at it, while Laura keeps yelling for him to shoot. John finally deals a fatal blow, but then won’t stop stabbing once it’s over. He and Laura are both covered in the blood that has sprayed everywhere.

Back at the cabin, Laura scrubs at their clothing. John says he didn’t get bit, but she says she’s seen people get sick from being exposed. He tells her that he didn’t mean for it to happen. She says he had a gun. He says that’s not how he does things, and she says it nearly got him killed. He says, better him than someone else. She asks if what he’s talking about has to do with why he doesn’t want to talk about being a cop. She asks what happened; did he take it or fire it? He says he fired. She says, good guy or bad guy? He says that’s not the way he looks at things, but she’d call him bad. She asks if it was a mistake or intentional, and he says, intentional. It was an intentional mistake. He stopped at the gas station, and a guy was robbing the place. John told him that he was a police officer, and to put his weapon down, but he would not. He tried to clip the guy in the leg. John starts to choke up, and Laura tells him it’s okay. John says, the guy turned, and he hit him dead center in the leg, and he bled out. Laura asks if that’s why he moved up there, but he says, no. People thought he was a hero. She says, it doesn’t matter how many people say it’s not your fault; what matters is if you believe it.

On the bridge, the zombies clamor at the truck. It starts to roll, and they start falling into the river.

Laura and John are sleeping, when John hears a lot of zombie noises. That’s because there are a sh*tload of them coming toward his house. He calls to Laura, and starts to whack them as they come out of the creek. Laura whacks and chops at them with a shovel, but they’re all falling into the moat, creating a bridge for the ones still coming. They’re surrounded, and Laura tumbles into the moat. John suddenly has the guns, one in each hand, and shoots with both at once, doing that twirling-the-guns thing. The last one is inches from Laura’s face and it’s hard to aim, but he does it, and kills the zombie. Holy! Even though we know both of them make it, I was holding my breath.

John surveys the mess. Laura sits next to him on the steps. She thanks him. She says he might not think he’s a hero, but she does. He’s an honorable person, and she’s very, very lucky to have washed up in his front yard. He gives her one of the pistols, telling her, if she’s going, she’ll need it, and he needs her to take it.

They sit on the couch. John gets up, and Laura asks what it is; why won’t he look at her? He says he loves her, but he didn’t want her to know. She asks why, and he says because she’s leaving, and he doesn’t want her to. He says if she wants the cabin, he’ll go. He tells her that he needs her alive. If she’s alive, the whole world feels alive. They kiss. At this point, I’m liking him too.

John wakes up to Billy Bass – alone. He looks around, and calls Laura’s name. He sees her shoes where the boots were on the porch. On the table is, I love you too Im sorry, in Scrabble letters.

Morgan and John sit by the side of the road. Morgan says, she loved you, and John says, yes. John says, maybe if he’d waited to tell her… but Morgan says, no waiting; not in this world. Waiting is how you lose people. John says he believed he had a second chance; it was stupid. Morgan says they still do. Madison, Victor, Luci; they’re still here. They think the only thing left is to fight, kill, or die. John says, maybe they’re right. Morgan tells John to look him in the eye, and tell him that’s what he believes. If he can do that, they’ll go their separate ways. John says he doesn’t believe it. Morgan says, they’re alive. They’re part of the world. Let’s not waste another second.

Morgan gets up, and gathers his stuff. John puts the other pistol in his holster. They walk down the road.

Nice episode.

Next time, John uses the pistols some more, Mel tells Madison to be careful, and Naomi says it’s dangerous.

🐟 Apparently, there’s more than one Dory with a y who’s a fish, and is a John. A white-fleshed sea fish found in European waters, John Dory (also known as St Peter’s fish), is an odd-looking creature with an oval, flat body and a large, spiny head. The white, boneless, meaty flesh is firm and flavoursome and can be cooked in a variety of ways: grill, sauté or poach it. – from BBC.co.uk  – Food.

💀 🔊 Talking Dead was a good one too, the guests being Yvette Nicole Brown and Jenna Elfman. The artistry of the episode was discussed, and it really was beautifully filmed. The scenery was gorgeous, but John’s cabin was also an amazing setting. Yvette talked about how she has an investment in the characters after knowing the backstory. I was with her there, but I’ve always had more investment in the characters from Fear than those in The Walking Dead. From the jump, they were more multi-faceted. TWD needs a charming rogue like Victor, trading barbs and sexual tension with Maggie. I was surprised nobody brought up Naomi/Laura having lost her child, but Jenna Elfman was very cagey about where the story was going next. I wondered if her child was Charlie. Also surprising was the gift an audience member went home with – a canoe. A clip of Garrett Dillahunt (John) talking about filming the episode, gave me a quote that I not only couldn’t resist adding, but could relate to: It’s only been six days but I feel twenty-seven days tired.

This did not include my own mother’s favorite, this is not a restaurant, which I actually heard come out of my own mouth while babysitting my neighbor’s twins. Although my mom wasn’t Irish, that list looks pretty mom universal.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny tells Jason that if they dig up what he did, his life will get blown apart.

At the MetroCourt, Anna leaves another message for Robert. She writes an email to Henrik from his mother. She says now that Faison is dead, she can tell him the truth about why she was forced to give him up when he was born. Valentin sits down and says she’s been avoiding him.

Curtis sits with Nina, and tells her she’s all work and no play. She says if her brother’s letters are any indication, she’s always been cool and interesting. He says, the ones he found in Peter’s office? She thanks him for a job well done, and gives him an envelope. He says it’s his pleasure, and amends that to extreme pleasure when he sees what’s inside. He asks if she’s sure she doesn’t want him to do any extra digging, but she says she was just angry. She was being paranoid and overprotective about Maxie. Peter isn’t a threat.

Peter reads his mother’s email, and says he can hear the excuses already. He leaves a message for Valentin to call him – now. Sam drops by, and says she’s given more thought to what they discussed.  She was surprised he told her it would be better off if she left. She asks him, why?

Carly yells, screw you, Ava! and throws the penguin mobile against the fireplace. Olivia says they all know how she hates Ava. They know what she did to Morgan and Connie – and her – but if she can keep her cool, so can Carly.

Jason tells Sonny it’s been decades. There’s nothing to connect him to the body. Sonny wouldn’t say that, since there have been major strides in forensics since then. A young kid on his first job made the mistake of burying the gun too. If they find a partial print and run it through the system, it will be Christmas for the Feds. Jason says they’d better get moving then.

Peter tells Sam he didn’t mean to imply the company would be better off without her. To be honest, Drew is more invested in the company. It might be difficult, if not impossible. for them to work together. It’s in Drew’s best interest if she walks away.

Curtis needs Nina to help him pick the right one. He shows her his phone, and she asks if that’s what she thinks it is. He says he’s going to propose to Jordan, and needs help in picking the perfect ring.

Valentin tells Anna that he can’t get ahold of Robert; he seems to have fallen off the grid. Anna says that’s what good agents do. Valentin wanted to follow up on the conundrum box with him. He put some thought in it, and remembers seeing one like it on Cassadine Island. He offers to have it dug up, but Anna passes that to Robert. Valentin is surprised she doesn’t want to check it out herself. He says Robert made it sound urgent, and he thought it had something to do with Henrik.

Carly says Ava brought Avery to the shower to flaunt it in her face. Ava says Avery is her daughter, and she’ll bring her where she wants. Carly says that’s only because she threatened to send Mike to prison. Ava says she’s like Carly, and will do anything for her children. Nelle apologizes, telling them to blame her. Carly says she’s not sorry; she’s thrilled. Monica reminds everyone that it’s a baby shower, and now it’s been brought to a halt in an argument about penguins. Bobbie says that’s not what the fight is about. She knows Nelle did it on purpose. Monica says it’s her shower. If she wants penguins, she can ask for penguins. Carly asks if her mother is the only one who sees Nelle for the snake she is.

Olivia suggests they play the baby bag game, where they guess what’s in the bag without looking at it. Olivia tells Carly that she knows it’s hard. She doesn’t like Nelle any better than Carly does. Ava hears her, and asks why come, let alone host the shower? Olivia says the baby is a Quartermaine, and after what Nelle pulled, Carly has every right to be skeptical. Nelle starts to interject, but Olivia suggests she quit while she’s ahead. Bobbie tells Carly that she can’t go in guns blazing. If she won’t do it for the baby or Michael, do it for herself. It’s not the battle to be picking right now. Carly steps away and takes a pill.

Nina looks through the rings. Curtis knows it will hurt one person and he’ll have no true peace, but it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. He and Jordan keep running away, and end up in the same place. Their last resort is to surrender, and promise to honor their bond every day for the rest of their lives. Nina says this is the one. It’s poetic yet honest, dazzling yet direct, and undeniably romantic. It’s like Jordan is for him, and him for her. Curtis looks at it and says she’s good. Nina says she is, and also happy for him. He’s been a good friend, indulging her with the investigation. He says she thought something was wrong, now it’s not, so that’s good news. She says Peter is on the up and up, and asks him to tell Sam that she was wrong. He has the best of intentions.

Sam asks if Peter thinks it’s impossible for them to work together. He says not to sound insensitive, but they’re getting a divorce. It would be better to have one CEO than two who are struggling with one another. She says she’s made her decision, and she’s staying. She tells him to let everyone who expressed concern know that she’s back and not going anywhere.

Anna tells Valentin that Robert is personally taking over the search for her son. She’d lost perspective, and her health suffered for it. Valentin asks if it’s serious, but Anna says she just needs to rest. She’s fine, and doesn’t need his sympathy. She needs to focus on the family she already has, and not be fixated on making things right with her son. Robert pointed out it might have a negative effect on Robin. Valentin says it’s shocking, but he agrees with Robert. She should focus on the  child has, not the one she doesn’t know.

Maxie comes into Peter’s office, and tells him that Nina showed her the folder he put together. He takes it that he owes her an apology. She asks if he’s kidding. Both she and Nina are beyond grateful. For Nina, it’s a keepsake of her brother, and for Maxie and the baby, it will be a window to what Nathan was like growing up. He wishes he’d given it to them sooner. When he sees it from Nina’s point of view, he can understand why she was suspicious. Maxie says Nina now sees what a good guy he is.

Nelle feels terrible. Monica opened her home to make this beautiful day happen. Carly has every reason not to trust her, but Nelle has to make it right. All she wants to do is build bridges and make amends. Olivia says now is not the time, but Nelle says what better time is there than when they’re celebrating the baby. She tells Carly that when she wanted name the baby Morgan, she was sincere. Carly says she has no reason to believe her, and Nelle says she’s right; she doesn’t. Josslyn says Nelle didn’t mean to be insensitive; she just wanted to do something nice. Carly is sure that’s what Nelle told her. Josslyn says even when Nelle told her that she admired her as a mother, and trusted her with guardianship of the baby, even that was a mistake. She just wanted to honor Morgan. Let her make things right.

Maxie tells Peter that Crimson is donating the programs. Peter laughs, saying he just wishes Nina would tell him something ahead of time. Maxie says Nina’s motto is that it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission. She wishes it didn’t mean she has to attend. Peter feigns shock, and says, Maxie Jones missing the social event of the season? She must be feverish and delusional, and needs to go home immediately. She tells him that last year, she was in Portland and missed it, so she and Nathan were going to do it up this year. She suggests sending an intern so they understand with glamour there is always pain. Peter says, or they could go together; he would appreciate the company. She says it would be easier to go with a friend, if he doesn’t mind walking the red carpet with a very pregnant lady. He says they’re on.

Carly tells Nelle that if she wants to make it right, stop saying Morgan’s name. She says Nelle only wants to hurt her, like with her friendship with Josslyn. Nelle is using Josslyn because she resents their loving family, and wants to destroy it. No one is buying her noble victim act. She doesn’t want to make amends or honor Morgan, she just wants to get Michael back. And everyone knows he’s too good for her. Nelle runs out of the room, crying. Monica says, so much for playing nice.

Jason and Sonny arrive at the field in Croton, using the Star Trek transporter. Jason says, they’ll be breaking ground any day, and Sonny tells him, this is it; between the columns and the water tower. He suggests they get past the nostalgia, and do what they came to do.

Bobbie tells Monica it’s a sensitive subject, and Monica says no one knows better than she the pain of mourning a son; ask Sonny. She suggests Carly suck it up, and treat Nelle with courtesy, and if she can’t, fake it. Josslyn asks if she couldn’t be nice for a change. Bobbie says Nelle was baiting Carly all afternoon. Josslyn says Nelle is insecure, and tries too hard because she loves Michael. They’re having a baby, and she’s the reason Josslyn is alive, if that counts for anything. Carly knows how badly Josslyn wants Nelle to be a good person, but wanting something doesn’t make it true. Josslyn asks if Carly is going to hate Nelle for the rest of her life, and blow up at every birthday party. She asks if Carly thinks Nelle will want to bring the baby to their house if Carly is going to fight with her. If she doesn’t make things right, Nelle will give up on them, and make her family with the Quartermaines. Josslyn will have to choose, and she doesn’t want to do that. She’s always telling Josslyn to take responsibility; why can’t she? Whatever Nelle did was wrong, but Carly was out of line. Why can’t she say she’s sorry, and forget it? Bobbie says Carly isn’t wrong, and Josslyn says, her too. She asks Carly, who’s more important, Nelle or her daughter? Carly says that’s ridiculous; Josslyn is her heart. Josslyn says, then suck it up and apologize. She wants to see her make the gesture. I want one of those giant balloons with a tassel. Carly says, okay, she’ll apologize to Nelle.

Jason and Sonny dig. Jason says it’s packed tight. He doubts anyone has been out there since Sonny was. He asks how far down, and Sonny says six feet; that’s how far he dug. Sonny has to take a break. Jason keeps digging. Sonny says that Skully had everything he wanted; money, respect, and power. What he wanted most was the power. His dad didn’t have it, and he knew it would cost him, but he didn’t care. He had two choices – be powerful like Skully, or weak like his dad. Here they are thirty years later, his dad is starting to lose everything, and it’s brought him back to the place it started. How about that?

Anna tells Valentin if he and Robert agree, who is she to argue? He asks if she’s being facetious, and she says, actually, she’s not. Faison stole a lot of her time, and now he’s gone. She hopes to make up time with Robin, who’s on her way to visit. Everything is on hold until after the Ball. Valentin says, for what it’s worth, he’s sorry. She’s in pain is he she knows he is this odyssey looking for Henrik search for peace hopes she finds it thanks him don’t know if sincere as sincere as he is he leaves

Carly seeks out Nelle in the nursery. She says Monica went all out. Nelle says at least somebody cares about the baby. Carly says she’s sorry. Nelle had no reason to know penguins were Morgan’s favorite. She’ll love the baby with everything she has. Nelle knows she will. Carly says as distasteful as it is, they have to call a truce. Nelle asks how she proposes they do that?

Nelle picks up the blanket she’s been knitting. Carly asks where she got that? Morgan had one just like it; her mom made it. Nelle says she had no idea. Carly says it’s her. All of it; the scarf, the calls. She smashed the picture, and put the note on Carly’s car, sending her to Morgan’s grave. Nelle asks if she’s feeling okay; she’s not making much sense. Carly says she sees what Nelle is doing, and it’s not going to work. She underestimated her. She’s good, but it’s over. Nelle says if she didn’t know better, she’d think Carly was losing it. The situation is perfect for getting Carly to smack her while she’s pregnant. Then she can cry in Josslyn’s arms. It’s not going to happen. She sees Nelle for who she is. Nelle says she’s carrying a baby that Michael loves. She says he appreciated that she was there for him when Avery disappeared. Carly says she was circling like a vulture to make herself look good. Nelle says it’s because she loves him. She’ll be there to ease the pain about his grandfather, and they’ll tells stories to the baby about him one day. She’s there for all of them. If Carly needs anything, just say the word. Carly says, it will be a cold day in hell. Nelle says, if she didn’t know better, she’d think Carly was having a breakdown. She must recognize the signs. She did when she threw Nelle’s breakdown in her face. She shouldn’t throw stones, since she spent time in a mental hospital herself.

Sam sees Maxie at the MetroCourt, and asks if she’ll be her date for the Nurses’ Ball. Maxie says she just promised Peter she’d go with him. Sam says she can fill him in on what happens. Nina tells Curtis good luck, and when he leaves, Maxie sits down. She wonders why everyone needs luck. Nina says she can’t tell her. Maxie says that something is happening, and she wants Nina to hear it from her first.

Curtis tells Sam that it’s off; Nina pulled the plug. He don’t know what Peter is selling, but Nina is buying it wholesale. Sam says if they keep it quiet, he’ll think he’s in the clear. He’s involved with too many people she cares about. She’s not letting it go.

Peter looks at an email from his mother, saying she wants to finally get to know him. He asks, is that what you want, mom?

Jason says they should hit the body soon. Sonny keeps thinking about when Jason came to work with him. He didn’t intend it to be the rest of Jason’s life. He didn’t know he’d rely so much on him. He can’t have own life because Sonny has trapped him. Jason says he chose his own life, but Sonny wants him to know he’s not taking it for granted. Jason says Sonny, Carly, and Michael are his family; they’re good. Sonny gets a flashlight. Jason hits something. It’s a dollar sign money clip.

Carly says it was all a ploy. Nelle set her up with the shower gift. She’s using the baby shower to hurt her and freak her out in front of Josslyn. Nelle says it must be a banner day for her, and a tragic one for Michael with his mother unbalanced and dangerous. She’ll have to get checked out before they let her have access to the baby. Carly says, think again, bitch. She’ll never get away. Nelle says, watch her.

Sonny remembers it like yesterday, the dude he buried flashing wads of cash. Jason says that’s all there is. There’s no body.

Anna types an email from Henrik’s mother. She tells him, for his own protection, not to trust Valentin Cassadine.

Curtis tells Sam that Nina might be satisfied, but there are too many unanswered questions. He suggests they work together.

Nina thinks Maxie going to the Ball with Peter is great. It’s good for her. Maxie says, so she doesn’t need the speech where she valiantly, but unsuccessfully, promotes Peter? Nina says she thought he was hiding a deep, dark secret, but he’s just a thoughtful guy. Maxie says, I told you so, and Nina says it’s the only one she’s going to get. She’s sorry she was overprotective. With Nathan gone, she thought it was her job to watch out for Maxie. She thought he’d want it that way. Maxie says, he would, but Nina says she took it too far. Her heart is in the right place, but Peter isn’t someone Maxie needs protection from.

Peter reads the email about Valentin. Valentin shows up at his office, and asks if he’s disturbing Peter. Peter says, on the contrary. He just left a message demanding Valentin call him back. It’s better face-to-face when there’s an important matter to discuss. He wants to know if they’re on the same page.

At the shower, everyone is playing Olivia’s baby bag game. Brad guesses, a toy. Olivia says every child under the age of six months thinks everything counts as a toy. It’s a wooden spoon.

Upstairs, Carly says she will not let Nelle get her hands on her son. Nelle leaves the room, and Carly makes a grab for the blanket. They struggle over it at the top of the stairs, and no surprise, Nelle falls down them. I’ve been wondering if something like that was going to happen.

On Monday, Jordan says she’s not ready for marriage, Jason thinks the body was moved, and Monica wants to call the police.

💍 In anticipation of the new season of 90 Day Fiancé (May 20th), TLC has been taking the pieces of each couples’ story shown throughout a season and putting them together, adding a new branch to the franchise tree. Tonight, was Jorge and Anfisa: Our Continuing Journey, and I couldn’t resist. They had a journey, all right. I never did quite get a handle on these two. I hadn’t seen them in the beginning, so that part was new to me. Apparently, Jorge had quite a thing going with dealing medical weed, as well as designing packaging for it. He’d designed a bag that didn’t let in ultra-violet rays or something like that, and it kept the weed fresher. You’d think that would have set him up for life. He’d told Anfisa that he was a millionaire, and they had traveled a bit together, but after she got here, she found out he was actually in debt. Jorge lost his job, although that wasn’t clear if it was because Anfisa kept interrupting his $15K drug deal with screaming mimi phone calls. While I totally get that she felt she’d been duped, she reacted like a toddler, throwing many literal temper tantrums. On the other hand, Jorge had the emotional range of a potato, so maybe she was just trying to get a reaction. Any reaction. She wanted to live the good life, but with Jorge, it was less than mediocre. The final straw came when Jorge’s sister accused Anfisa of only spreading her legs for Jorge when he had money, and he just sat there like the emotionless sack of flour he was during the entire relationship. She walked out, finding a life of her own. These two were just bizarre. At times, they seemed like bad actors, their conversation and mannerisms stilted and wooden.

The really weird part came during The Couples Tell All episodes (what you call a reunion). They arrived together, and were sharing a hotel room. During all three episodes, Jorge intimated he had some juicy information about Anfisa, claiming it was something she wanted to keep hidden. Even though the host eventually had a two-on-one with them, Jorge never really spilled the beans. Was she a hooker escort? A stripper An exotic dancer? Part of the Russian mob? A potato farmer trying to capture him? What? We may never know. Another question on my list for God when I meet Him. She made it clear she’d expected a life of luxury and Jorge didn’t deliver, and the rest of the couples were of one mind that this was not a love match. Still, there were glimmers of humanity, like when Anfisa cried at the civil ceremony. Although she could have been crying about the United States not being the land of opportunity she’d thought it was.
