While I don’t know new Housewife Bronwyn at all, kudos to her fashion sense. Just remember, it’s fashion, not a costume. In Heather’s interview, she confused Alice Cooper with Gene Simmons, and said, honest mistake. Aren’t all actual mistakes honest? And does that really apply here? More like a you-don’t-know-your-rock-legends mistake. In a Housewives first, there was a girls’ trip to Milwaukee. A suite at the Bucks game seemed like the usual, but not so much a trip to the Bobblehead Museum. We flashed back to Mary calling Whitney a bobblehead, but in Mary’s interview, she said Whitney had passed the bobblehead baton to someone else. Do tell.
Bronwyn was upset over Lisa not coming to her defense during last week’s gang-up on her, but she said she wasn’t throwing Lisa under the bus… yet. However, she was turning the bus on. Whitney, Bronwyn, Mary and new Wife Meili went to the museum, where there were over 10,000 bobbleheads, and they were given a scavenger hunt. The collection was quite impressive. Nearly everyone even moderately famous has been made into a bobblehead. There was also a casino close by where the rest of the group gambled. Apparently, there are rumors swirling on social media that Whitney resells jewelry she gets from Alibaba, which is not a good look.
The suite was amazing and the buffet even more so. Heather said she was as happy as a puppy with two peters over the lobster corndogs, which sounds like something Captain Lee would say. Brittani found out that her boyfriend was hitting on Angie’s brow girl, and I’m not sure how much of the game was actually watched. After alerting Brittani, Angie hoped Brittani wouldn’t be pissed at her, which she shouldn’t be, but probably will be. Bronwyn confronted Lisa for not having her back and Heather for her needing her back covered in the first place. In Bronwyn’s interview, she said she wasn’t going to stop until they all realized that all of them talked about each other. She said she wasn’t part of the problem, but she was the best dressed part of the problem. I concur.
Next time, a dance-off, a curling game, and dinner table screaming. In other words, the usual.
🎵 Side note: I’m not loving Heather these days. I think she lost a few other things along with that weight, like her appeal and decency. Her ego must have gotten even bigger when she was on Watch What Happens Live tonight with Sarah Paulson. Sarah scolded her for not coming backstage when she saw Sarah on Broadway in Appropriate. Apparently, Sarah had alerted the entire cast, who’d been very excited about Heather’s presence. Is there really such a meager choice of amusement in the stage world?
✅ Fun Fact:Mary Cosby’s father once lived a street away from Jeffrey Dahmer and wondered where a funky smell was coming from. A week later, Dahmer was arrested, and he saw the whole thing go down. Of course, Mary could be making it up, but that’s pretty random. Six degrees from my part, I once met a guy who was a counselor of Dahmer’s when he (Dahmer, not the guy I met) was in prison. He said that Dahmer was a really nice guy when he was on his medication, but you didn’t want to be near him when he wasn’t. Take from that what you will.

It wouldn’t be NYC without them. Although there is the eternal question… Why don’t we ever see baby pigeons?
This drops on Shudder tomorrow and I can’t wait to see it. Tusk was one of the best films I’ve ever seen, so I have high hopes for Justin Long’s work on this.
Come by tomorrow for (hopefully) soap and the OC nightmare before Halloween. Until then, stay safe; stay erring on the side of caution and professionalism at office costume parties; and stay never being part of the problem, but being the best dressed part of the problem.
Brynn was moving to a bigger place, since she’d gotten a puppy, and I could identify with her feeling that moving in the city was its own hell. But 16 boxes of thongs? Brynn does laundry less than I do. A lot of the episode revolved around things said about Jenna. Are these women jealous or something. Jenna is the least likely to say anything about anybody. Why are the playing telephone using her name? Rebecca Minkoff made an appearance, and I really like her. That makes two out of the whole cast. It’s not that I dislike them, but I can’t imagine being friends with any of them, even if I had the money to travel in the same circles. And I find Brynn especially annoying, right down to her tween hairbows. Although, TBH, I did go through a butterfly clip phase – and I don’t mean the clip style, I mean little butterflies – for a while when I was probably too old for it. Right now, I’m liking new Housewife Racquel, but the jury is still out. Jessel might not have been too keen on husband Pavit’s trip to Chinatown for his food influencing side gig, but where else are you going to get a decent dumpling? That’s another thing. Most of this group takes snobbery to a new level.
Warning: spoilers. I haven’t actually seen this yet. I was doing something else or watching something else, maybe both, and then ran out of time. So I spoiled it for myself, but I don’t care. If you haven’t seen it yet and you do care, don’t read this.
Join me tomorrow for baseball a dip into Salt Lake and who knows what else. Until then, stay safe, stay respecting those who don’t celebrate Halloween, and stay not being a restaurant snob. The best food is found in the most unlikely places.

Felicia asks if there’s anything else they can do for Lulu, but Elizabeth says she thinks their only hope is for Anna and Jason to get back here with Lucky… now. Felicia asks what she’s saying, and Elizabeth tells her that Lulu is running out of time.
Sidwell asks if Holly doesn’t think he knows she was after the diamonds all along. Does she think he’d let her cheat him? She grabs his gun and aims it at him. She tells him to keep his hands off of her and don’t even think of calling for the guards. She asks if Lucky can get free and he says he’s way ahead of her. He asks if she knows where Jason and Anna are, and she says, same cell, but while she’s looking at Lucky, Sidwell gets the better of her and takes the gun. He and Lucky struggle over it, and Holly pinches the back of Sidwell’s neck like a Vulcan death grip. Lucky grabs the gun, but Sidwell grabs Holly and holds a knife to her side. He says, drop the gun, but Lucky says, can’t. He’s got somewhere he has to be. Sidwell says he doesn’t think so.
Anna says she and Jason are dying tonight and she hugs him. It looks like they’re about to kiss, but a clanging door distracts Jason. He listens for a moment, then grabs Anna’s face and kisses her. Two guards come, and one says, they’re saying goodbye. He opens the door and Jason looks at Anna. You can see the wheels spinning in both their heads.
Tracy walks into the stables, and Cody says, the only reason Sasha is here is because he invited her. Sasha says, that’s not true. She surprised him. He had no idea she was coming down here. He says, no. He’s in charge of the stables. It’s his responsibility. He shouldn’t have let it happen… Sasha says, no, stop, and Tracy says, anybody who’s not her, stop. A word of advice. In any interrogation, if you want to get to the truth quickly, you let the suspect speak. He will always eventually hang himself. Cody says he didn’t realize she spent a lot of time getting perps to sing, and Tracy says, another general rule. Do not apologize for anything until you know what you’re being accused of. Cody says, okay. Then tell them straight up. Is she going to fire Sasha? Because she should know if she does, he’s going to go too. And he’d be willing to bet she’s going to miss him, because he knows he’s going to miss her.
Sonny and Carly are at the MetroCourt, and she looks at her phone. He says, anything? but she says, nothing. It’s so weird. Martin walks in and goes to the bar. Sonny says, excuse him. He’ll be right back. He approaches Martin, who says he would have come by to say hi, but he saw the champagne and flowers and thought he could find a better time to interrupt. Sonny says he appreciates the thought. Has Martin seen Alexis today? Martin says he has. All things considered, she’s… coping? Sonny asks if they settled on a strategy, and Martin says he thinks so, but he thinks that’s best left between him and Alexis. Attorney/client privilege. Sonny says he’s paying Martin to get her out of Pentenville as soon as he can. And he would hope Martin would do whatever he can to make that happen. Martin says, whatever it takes. That’s the plan.
Also at the MetroCourt, Diane tells Robert that she met the new WSB station chief this morning, and he says, Jack Brennan? She says, he was chatting with Carly this morning when she walked into Bobbie’s. He asks what she thought, and she says she can’t say she’s that impressed. He was clearly trying to get some kind of information out of Carly, but she managed to scare him away with very little effort. He says, she’s disappointed, and she says, yeah, a little. Of course (🍷) she’s just glad he’s not somebody she has to spend time worrying about. He says, don’t be too sure on that.
On the phone in his office, Jack tells someone to wait for his order, when a woman (Colette) walks in. She asks, what order would that be? and he says, they got word that Jenz Sidwell is holding three US citizens hostage at his compound in Somalia. If the WSB doesn’t intervene now, Morgan and Devane aren’t going to make it out of there alive. Neither will Lucky Spencer. So he intends to give their escape a fighting chance. She says, with all due respect, he doesn’t have the authority to make that call.
Lucky says, Sidwell won’t do it, and Sidwell says, watch him. Last chance, and then she bleeds. Lucky slowly drops the gun, and Holly stomps on Sidwell’s foot. He lets her go, and he and Lucky struggle.
Two guards take Jason out of the cell, while another takes Anna out. Jason frees himself from their grip, and the fight is on, handcuffs or not. Anna pushes a guard into the cell, then struggles with him, while Jason fights the other two. Anna clamps her hand onto the guard’s face, then elbows his nose. He falls and she runs out. Jason tells her, go, but she runs toward him, and the guard literally picks her up from behind.
On the phone, Jack says, that’s right. Get them in the air… Yes, all of them. That area needs a little rain. Colette says, in all her years with the WSB, she’s never heard of a regional station chief calling in a dawn strike in East Africa. He says, if she sticks around, she may find that she uses the words never and unprecedented less than she has in her other postings. These are highly unusual circumstances. Sidwell and his plundering operation won’t be missed. She says, but they have no authority or formal request to be in that location. They have no treaty in place. They don’t even have a handshake agreement. He says, they’re not likely to get one now, and she says, what if the UN finds out that they took an unauthorized military action in East Africa? He says, then he’ll be tried for war crimes and his career, such as it is, will be over. She says, and hers? and he says, she’ll be fine. He’ll tell them she tried to stop him. (Drawing a heart on my notebook that says, JB + TK in the middle.)
Diane says she gets the impression that Jack Brennan is a low-level bureaucrat who was trying to get information out of Carly so he can use it to climb his career ladder, and Robert says, that’s what she’s supposed to think. She says, but in reality, he’s much more powerful and dangerous that that, and he says, smart and beautiful. She laughs.
On her phone, Carly says she’s sorry. Who are they? Deputy station chief? Sonny comes back, and she asks if she can talk to Chief Brennan. This is very, very important… What do they mean, he’s busy?… She understands that. Can they please ask him to call Carly Spencer as soon as possible? Thank you. Sonny asks, what’s wrong? and she says she thinks Anna and Jason are in trouble. He says, is Brennan going to get back to her? and she says she doesn’t know. Yesterday, she would have said yes, but she doesn’t know. She doesn’t know this guy. He tells her, just calm down, but she says, the calm ship has sailed. She has to figure this out. She’s sorry. She gets up, and he says, go, go. She kisses his cheek and leaves. Martin, Lucy and Natalia all notice.
Lucy tells Natalia, as she was saying, when Sonny came back from Nixon Falls, he and Carly, despite everything, tried to get back together. Natalia says, that sounds very adult to her, and Lucy says she guesses. The point is, does she know how many times they tried to get back together? She’s completely lost count. And every time they do, there’s some big drama, which is kind of who they are, but frankly, she finds the whole thing gets really boring after a while. Natalia says she thinks that’s usually how people feel if they’re not involved and just hearing about it, and Lucy says, true. So anyway, Sonny comes back from Nixon Falls… Sonny approaches the table from behind Natalia, and Natalia says, and what? Lucy tells Sonny, hi. It’s a lovely evening tonight, isn’t it? Natalia and Sonny smile at each other.
Felicia says she imagines Elizabeth has some feelings about Lucky coming home, and Elizabeth asks if he even considers Port Charles his home anymore. Felicia says she guesses they’ll find out soon enough. How does Elizabeth feel about Lucky coming to town? Elizabeth says she hasn’t sorted her feelings out yet, but she can say she’s nervous for Aiden. He doesn’t even know his dad, and Lucky certainly doesn’t know his son. Felicia asks if she thinks there’s a chance they’ll get to know each other while Lucky’s here, and Elizabeth says, possibly. She’s watched Jason and Danny bond. Although it helps that they’re into the same things. Felicia says, speed, fast things, extreme everything? and Elizabeth says, and for all those reasons Sam has double the same things to worry about when it comes to Danny. Felicia says, there’s always the possibility Jason might leave again, and Elizabeth says she wants to protect Aiden. But she also feels that if he wants to get to know his dad, he should have the chance to do that. Felicia says, then she might have to let Aiden and Lucky navigate this for themselves. Let Aiden figure out what kind of relationship he wants with his father. Elizabeth says she just hopes she doesn’t have to pick up the pieces.
Holly watches Sidwell and Lucky fight, when Sidwell headbutts Lucky. Lucky yells, Holly! but she’s gone. Sidwell gets Lucky down on the card table, and puts his hands around Lucky’s throat, saying, she left. He dies.
Jason and Anna are brought down some stairs to the courtyard. She wonders if Lucky made it out, and Jason says he gave him a chance. A guard tells them, on their knees, and they kneel down. The guards cock their guns.
Carly goes into Jack’s office and asks, why didn’t he call her back? Does he know if Anna and Jason are okay? Does he know if they’re safe? He points to his computer screen and says, see for herself. She asks what she’s looking at, and he says, satellite images. That’s Sidwell’s compound in East Africa. Take a mental snapshot because it’s not going to be there for long. Carly asks, what’s going to happen? and he says he got word her friends needed back-up. This was the best back-up he could get together in such short notice. He only hopes he’s in time. She says, he doesn’t know if he’s in time? and he says, not yet, no. They look at the screen, and he says, okay. This is it. See the long, rectangular building there? She says, yeah, and he says, watch closely. And three… two… one…
Jason and Anna hear the planes overhead, and there’s an explosion. Everyone is thrown to the ground and parts of the place are on fire.
Jason comes to and coughs. The guards wake up and one says, let’s go. They jet because this is above their paygrade, but one lies on the ground, presumably dead. Anna wakes up and Jason asks if she’s okay. She says, yeah. Him? He nods and takes the guard’s gun while she searches for the handcuff keys.
Tracy says, there’s no question she would miss Cody as well, which is one of the reasons why she’s not going to fire Sasha. For one, she couldn’t, because Monica would never let her. And in addition, Sasha makes the lightest pastry this side of Paris and she loves light pastry. Sasha thanks her, and Tracy says, now why is she here. She came to the unfortunate conclusion that her behavior around his family brunch was… unkind, unwarranted, and quite possibly and overreaction. Cody asks if she’s all right, and she says, of course (🍷). She’s fine. Doesn’t she look all right? Sasha says, she looks really good, and Tracy thanks her. She says she’s taking the advice of a friend who suggested she might want to… reevaluate her behavior, and Sasha says, it’s perfectly understandable. Tracy was upset that she hosted Cody’s family without her permission. Tracy says, she’s right, but it’s not that simple, and Cody asks, what’s going on with her? Tracy says she’s sure they’re both aware that she’s often at odds with her family. Which is the price she pays for being the sane one. But she digresses. When she came down to the boathouse and saw him so happily ensconced with his family, it really caught her off-guard. Cody says he’s really sorry, and she says she’s not going to bore them with the details of her journey to self-awareness. Suffice to say, she was wrong, and she’s so sorry.
Anna gets the handcuffs off Jason, and he asks if that’s who he thinks it is. She says, yeah, and heads up the stairs. At the top, she covers Jason as he follows. They go back inside.
Sonny says he didn’t mean to interrupt. He just thought he and Natalia could go over the plans for Deception. Lucy says, that’s a great idea. They’re finished anyway. He says he doesn’t want to kill the night. It’s just that they were supposed to go over the plans this morning, but it didn’t work out. He just saw her, so he thought he’d give it a shot. Natalia says, it’s fine, and so efficient, and he says, that’s a good thing, right? Lucy says, it’s a great thing. The best. She gets up, and Sonny tells her, have a good night. She says, you have a good night. Ta. She leaves and he sits down. Lucy goes over to Martin at the bar.
Jason and Anna come into the room where Sidwell is trying to strangle Lucky, and Jason hits Sidwell in the back of the head with the gun butt. Sidwell falls onto the table, and Anna asks if Lucky is all right. He says he’s fine, and she asks, where’s Holly? He says, no idea, and she calls Holly’s name. Jason says, they have to get out of here, but Lucky says, no. Just leave. Anna says, they have to get out of here before the whole place goes down, and she starts to search Sidwell. She grabs something off of him (a gun?) and they run out.
Natalia tells Sonny, here’s the thing. Over the years, she’s learned that there are two sure fire paths to misery. He says, only two? and she laughs. She says, one, never get involved with a married man, and he says he’s not married. She says, and two, never get involved with a man who’s involved with someone else. And with that in mind, what is going on with him and his ex-wife?
Tracy says she hopes they accept her apology, and Cody says, yes, of course (🍷). Sasha says, absolutely. That was very brave, and it meant a lot. Tracy says, while she’s at it, they do make a lovely couple, and Cody says, okay. She can stop now. It’s starting to freak him out a little. But thank you. He loves this job and she’s a big part of the reason why. She says, bigger than Comet? and he says, don’t make him lie to her face, but yes. In many ways, she’s made this life that he loves possible. He’s really grateful. Sasha says, they both are, and Tracy says she’s glad. Sometimes it can be very hard to find a place to call home. Cody says, it can. And sometimes you find someone, or someones, that make it a lot easier. Tracy says, that’s always the hope, isn’t it? and he says, for what it’s worth (🍷), he’s been working with her and her family for a while now, and he doesn’t think she’s at odds with them as much as she might think. She says, they have their good days. So get on with their evening and she’ll get on with hers. He says, she still owes him that backgammon game, and she says she’ll make time for him in her very busy schedule, and when she does, prepared to be schooled. He says, backgammon doesn’t really lend itself to taunting, and she says, it doesn’t. And get a room… with a door… that locks. She leaves and they laugh.
Elizabeth tells Felicia that she and Lucky only have a child together. That’s it. They’re done done. Felicia says she gets it. If Frisco were to parachute into town right now, she’d say the same thing. Elizabeth says, there you go, and Felicia says, because she loves her life, and she loves Mac, and she knows that it’s possible to move on. But it’s taken her years to get to that place. Elizabeth says, it’s been years for her and Lucky, and Felicia says, when Frisco left, she felt like she was losing a part of herself that she’d never get back. She was a mess, and she made one out of her life. She doesn’t know what would have happened if Frisco had come back before she got her life back together again. Elizabeth says she felt the same way when Lucky left. She probably would have fallen apart if it weren’t for her kids… and this place.
Lucy sits down and says, Martin looks absolutely fantastic. Whoever did his makeover should work for Crimson. It’s just so perfect. (For the record, he’s now clean-shaven, but I’m not sure I like it. I kinda liked the young Colonel Sanders look for him.) He thanks her, and she asks how long he’s been in Port Charles. He says, a few days. He was called in to represent Alexis Davis. She says, that is a tough one. So she guesses it’s kept her pretty busy. Is that why he hasn’t called her?
Robert tells Diane, Brennan plays a political game that he never could, and she says, meaning? He says, he comes across as a pushover, but make no mistake. He’s the real deal, a heavy hitter. She says she’s dealt with more than a few of those in her career, and he says, Brennan knows where all the bodies are buried. Why? Because he helped put more than a few of them there. She laughs and says she’s had experience with that type of personality, and he says he’s painfully aware that she’s a difficult woman to play. She tells him, some would say nearly impossible, and he says, but in Jack Brennan, she may have met her match. She says, hang on a second, counselor. She just has to powder her nose before he makes his closing argument.
Sonny says his relationship with Carly… Natalia says, complicated, and he says, they live separate lives that occasionally intersect. She asks if that’s what’s happening right now, when Diane comes over. She asks Sonny, where’s Carly?
Carly says, they bombed the compound. How do we know they got out safe? Jack says, the strike was to draw Sidwell’s men away from the building Anna and Jason were last seen entering. She says, what about Lucky? and he says, it’s believed he was being held there as well. Sidwell’s guards are paid mercenaries. They’ll be busy trying to get out of there and save themselves, and that should give their guys a chance to escape. She says, assuming they got out, how are they going to get out of the country? and he says, there’s a private WSB jet, fueled and ready to take off at an airstrip near the compound. She says, they have to get there on their own? and he says he’s done as much as he can. The rest is up to them. (Geez. What more does she want? Him to personally walk them to the plane?)
Jason, Anna, and Lucky go back down the stairs, and Lucky says, does anyone have a plan? They hear a horn blowing, and a jeep pulls up. Holly says, don’t just stand there. Get in. They get in, and Holly asks if they thought she was going to leave them there. Lucky says, yeah, and Holly says, where to? Anna says, the airfield, and Holly speeds away.
Sonny tells Diane that he did champagne and the whole thing, but Carly had to go, and Diane says, so he decided to replace her with Natalia Ramirez. He says, she’s his business associate, and Diane says she doesn’t care what Natalia actually is. She cares how it looks. He asks if it looked like they were talking, because that’s what they were doing, and she tells him that she said these exact words to Carly this morning. She doesn’t understand why the two of them aren’t doing everything in their power to solidify his alibi. He does realize Alexis is in prison. He says he doesn’t want Alexis in prison another minute. That’s why he got her a great lawyer. She says, so he understands her fate hangs in the balance, and he tells her that she doesn’t have to say that. She says, while Alexis is facing the prospect of life behind bars, he can’t seem to make it through even one dinner with his ex-wife, and he says, she had to go. Did Diane want him to chain her to the chair? He didn’t know what was going to happen next. She says, he understands his freedom relies on his alibi. So next time, he just might want to plan a little better. He says he knows, and she needs to know, without a doubt, Carly will not let him down. She says, he’d better pray she doesn’t, and leaves.
Elizabeth says she had to keep it together for her kids, and Felicia says, she’s fortunate that her family was there for her. Elizabeth says she is. Epiphany is the one who saved her. Epiphany taught her to put one foot in front of the other. Felicia says she wishes she’d worked here when Epiphany did, and Elizabeth says, she was amazing. She used to always remind them that they’re part of something bigger than just themselves. Felicia says, when you walk into this hospital, it’s tough not to feel that way, and Elizabeth says, and Epiphany never let them forget it. It didn’t matter how you felt when you walked through those doors. When you walked out, you always felt better. Felicia says, this job distracted her, and Elizabeth says, every day she would help people who were scared or vulnerable and she never realized at the time, she was actually helping herself. Then one day she got home from work and didn’t have that knot in her stomach, and she could breathe without that lump in her throat. It felt like she’d found herself. She doesn’t know if Lucky ever did that. She always felt that he was looking for something that was missing in himself. Felicia says she knows the feeling, and Elizabeth says, but things have changed. Maybe he’s changed. Felicia says she hopes so for his sake, and Elizabeth says she doesn’t know what it’s going to be like having Lucky back in town, but she’s just going to do what Epiphany taught her and put one foot in front of the other and just see what happens. Felicia says, she found her way through it once, and if she has to, she will again.
On the plane, Jason says, Lucky’s friend Isaiah is the reason they found him, and Lucky says he knew Isaiah would make it back to Port Charles. Anna gets up and groans, rubbing her back, and Holly asks, how bad is it? Anna says she could really use a hot bath, and Holly says, that makes two of us. Anna says, that was good work, grabbing that jeep, and Holly says she wasn’t going to walk out of there. Anna says, she could have driven off without them, but Holly says, they’ve settled this. She’s not going to be the one who tells Robert that Anna is dead. Also, she doesn’t think the WSB would have let her on this plane without Anna. Anna laughs and says she doesn’t think they would have either.
Anna goes over to Lucky and asks how he’s doing, and he says he owes them both. He doesn’t know how or if he can ever repay them, but will they take an IOU? Anna says, they weren’t the only ones. Doc and Laura were looking for him too. (Oh yeah. What happened to them?) Lucky says, what? Where are they looking? She says, his mother left before Isaiah came to town, so his last location, which was the refugee camp. He says, okay. It’s remote, but it’s out of the line of fire, so she should be safe. What can Anna tell him about Lulu?
On the phone, Jack says, thank you. He tells Carly, they made it to the plane and the wheels are up. He’s curious though. The pilot counted four passengers. She says she doesn’t know anything about a fourth passenger, and he says he guesses they’ll have to wait to find out who their mystery passenger is. She says, maybe it’s someone who helped them escape, and he says, whoever it is, let’s hope they’re a good luck charm and the plane makes it into international airspace. She asks where they are now, and he says, in prohibited airspace. If they’re spotted, the jet will most likely be brought down. She says, what? Why would that happen? He says, prohibited is prohibited. They’ll most likely be on the end of a surface to air missile. She asks if the people on the plane know this, and he says, the flight crew does. She says, and the other people? and he says, what good would it do if they did? It’s best to just let them breathe easy and pray they keep doing it.The pilot has done this many times before. He’ll do everything he can to fly them to safety.
Tracy sits down at a table in the MetroCourt, and at the bar, Martin tells Lucy, it’s true the case has been keeping him busy, but that isn’t why he hasn’t been in touch. She says, why then? and he tells her, like she said, he’s made a few changes. She says, he definitely has and it’s all good, and he says he learned a thing or two when he was out of town. She might even say he’s a new man. But make no mistake, this new version of him doesn’t want to spend time with her any more than the old one did.
Sonny says, to answer Natalia’s question, to be honest, he’s not involved with any of his exes or anybody else. But Carly will always be in his life. He knows that complicates things. She says she’s got her own complicated past to deal with, so who is she to judge? and he asks if that past is a problem now. She says, no, but the details of it tend to scare some people off. He says, she’s in luck because he’s not most people. (Ooh, I’m intrigued.)
Lucy says, no interest? and Martin says, none. She asks how he can say that to her. He says, it’s surprisingly easy, and she says she thought maybe they could let bygones be bygones. He says, they could, but one of the perks of self-improvement is knowing when to cut your losses, and she says, so this is the new and improved him, just cutting. He says, give his best to Scott Baldwin, and walks out. Lucy looks over at Tracy, who’s busy on her phone.
Sonny says, Natalia is asking a lot of questions about his personal life. Is there a reason for that? She says, no. As a matter of fact, his personal life is none of her business. He says, if there was a problem, he’d say something, and she says she appreciates that. That did just remind her of a third path to misery. He says, let him hear that, and she says, getting involved with a man you work with. She thanks him for the desert and the honesty. She tells him, goodnight, and leaves.
On the phone, Jack asks if they’re sure… Thank you. Carly says, just tell her, and he says, the plane just crossed into international airspace. She says, and they’re safe? and he says, they’ll be arriving in New York in the morning. She thanks him, throwing her arms around him and hugging him.
Two guards help Sidwell outside, and he says, they’re going after Holly. Find a car. One of the guards says, she’s probably dead, but Sidwell says, she’s not dead. She has his diamonds. Find a car.
On the plane, Holly picks up her tote bag and looks at the pile of diamonds inside. Jason comes by and sits across the aisle. She pretends to be trying to sleep.
Anna tells Lucky, Lulu has what’s called medically induced cirrhosis of the liver, which means obviously her liver is failing. He asks what they’re doing for her, and she says, they’re giving her dialysis daily. Because she’s been in a coma for so long, she’s not really eligible for the national donor registry. He says, so it has to be a family member. What about Nikolas? She says, he was a match, but for some reason, his liver wasn’t healthy enough to go through the transplant. He says, so he’s it, and she says, he is. Is there anything at all she can do for him? He says he needs to make a call, and she gives him her phone.
At the hospital, the phone rings. Elizabeth answers, 10th floor. Nurse Elizabeth Baldwin. After a pause, Lucky says, Elizabeth?
On Monday, Terry asks if any part of Lucky being back is a good thing for Elizabeth; Jack asks Robert how worried he should be about Holly Sutton; and Mac tells Holly that he doesn’t believe her.

What was wrong with the old Lucas? Now that Brad is back, will we circle that drain again?
Apartment 7A looks like a winner for me. My weekend plans included checking out The Penguin and Grotesquerie, along with the new episodes of From and Agatha All Along. So much streaming, so little time. If I could only stop that pesky need for sleep.
The latest on Jennifer and her dogs🐶, Pesto the baby penguin🐧, and Moo Deng the baby pygmy hippo🦛. That livestream is going to break the internet. Who wouldn’t want to watch her?
Yep. This is one creepy fish. Last year, the day after Halloween, five – I kid you not, five – buzzards were sitting on my neighbor’s roof. I was like, where were you last night?

Hunker down if you’re in bad weather’s path, or if not, venture out and do some leaf peeping. Then come back on Monday for soap and what to watch (or not). The Med Deck is done, although there’s one of those never-before-seen shows on Deck if you’re so inclined. Until then, stay safe (extra safe if you’re in the aforementioned path); stay making an effort to do the right thing, regardless of other people’s behavior; and stay never apologizing for anything until you know what you’re being accused of.

General Hospital
Stella meets Tracy at the park, and Tracy says, in her book, on time is five minutes early. Punctuality is a principle she holds dear, and if Stella doesn’t agree, maybe they need to rethink their arrangement. Stella asks who Tracy thinks she’s talking to.
James goes to the stables and Sasha tells him to have fun with his Uncle Cody. Cody says, fun is his middle name.
Drew tells Ned that Valentin is wanted by the FBI. His assets have been seized and it’s not going to look good for ELQ. Ned agrees, and Drew says he wishes Ned had been in agreement when he teamed up with Valentin. They need a less controversial CEO. He can’t do it, so that leaves one person. Ned says, me, and Drew says, Michael.
Sidwell says, it would be easy to kill them all, but he wants to make it more interesting. He’ll give them a chance to keep breathing. Jason asks, what’s the game? and Sidwell says, three players. If Jason wins, he and Anna live. If Lucky’s name is accurate, he and Holly will live. If he wins, they all die. No matter what happens, he can’t lose. Holly says, this is insane. Kill them if he wants to, but not her.
Tracy asks Stella if she was harsh. Timeliness is important to her. Stella says, her too, but there was an accident on Bellmont… She’s not explaining herself. She doesn’t buy that Tracy is this angry because she was late. Tracy asks what she’s angry about then, and Stella says, you tell me. Tracy says her mood has nothing to do with Stella being late. Two staff members were insubordinate and ill-mannered, and she’s annoyed about it. The cook took it upon herself to throw an elaborate brunch for another family at their boathouse and the stable hand was involved. Stella says, that is rude. Some people have no work ethic anymore, throwing a party on the job. Tracy says, the cook wasn’t on the clock. It was her day off. Stella says, it’s a shame about the stable hand, but Tracy says, it was his day off too. Stella says she’s confused. What’s the problem? Tracy says, their blatant disregard for her. Sasha got huffy and defiant, and Cody chimed in on her behalf. Stella says, problems are like onions. You’ve got to pull back the layers to get to the root. She knows what this is really about, and bets Tracy does too.
James asks if Cody is happy to be part of their family, and Cody says, the happiest. James says he can’t believe Grandpa Mac is Cody’s dad, and Cody says he can’t believe it either. He learned to be okay with being alone and leaned into the cool parts, but having a family who he cares about and who cares about him is a lot cooler.
Maxie thanks Sasha for the brunch, and Sasha says, it was fun until Tracy. Maxie says, that was a lot of hot air over a quiche. She was checking for updates on Lulu. She’s getting worse and needs a transplant now. Sasha says she’s sorry. She knows they were close. Maxie says, Lulu is her best friend. Always has been and always will be.
Drew says, Michael is the obvious choice, and Ned tells him, says who? Who authorized him to choose? Drew says he’s a member of the family, and Ned says, he made that clear when he changed his name before his run for office. Drew says he makes no apologies, and Ned never apologized for making Valentin CEO. Ned asks if the initials SEC mean anything to Drew, and Drew says, they need to replace Valentin with Michael. Ned asks why he should support that, and Drew says, because he’s a team player. He’s supporting the family over his personal interests. Michael and Willow walk in, and Michael asks if they’re interrupting.
Holly says she doesn’t know what these people are doing and doesn’t care. She’s not involved. He’s the one who persuaded her to leave Monte Carlo, and now she’s going to be killed if someone doesn’t win a game. Sidwell says he enjoyed his time with her, but doesn’t trust her. She knew these people and didn’t tell him. She says she explained why, but he says he doesn’t like people who keep secrets. He tells the guards to get the women out and secure Lucky and Jason. He asks if they’re ready to play for their lives.
Tracy asks if it isn’t premature for Stella to presume she knows what Tracy means, and Stella says, they’re more alike than Tracy wants to admit. It all boils down to one thing. How Tracy feels about Cody.
James asks if Sasha is part of their family because she’s Cody’s girlfriend, and Cody says, some people have a hard time believing in themselves. Sasha believed in him when he couldn’t and talked him into it. James says he believes in Cody. How can he not believe in himself? Cody says, James wrote the book on cool, but James says he hates writing. Cody tells him, it’s just a saying. For the record, Sasha is part of his family. James says, then she’s part of his too, and they get ready to go for a ride.
Holly and Anna are put in a cell, and Anna looks around. Holly says, she won’t find anything, and Anna asks if she’s supposed to sit around waiting to die. The whole reason they came was to bring Lucky home to save Lulu, but that only happens if he lives. If he wins, that means Jason can’t win. She finds a paper clip and starts to work the lock. She says, that means she’s a dead woman. Why didn’t Holly help Lucky escape when she found him? Holly asks how she would know Lulu needed a transplant. She was two months into the most odious con, and two weeks was all she needed. She would have had millions of dollars, but instead, they show up, and now their lives are at risk. Anna says, Holly always survives. She needs to ask Holly a favor. When she gets out, go to Robert and asks him to tell their daughter how much she loves her. Holly says, Anna is such a bitch. Anna knows she can’t go to Robert and tell him that she left her to die. Anna says she doesn’t see what choice Holly has. Unless Holly has a magic Get Out of Jail Free card, she’s screwed.
Sidwell says he’ll do the honors, and shuffles the cards. A guard whispers something to him, and he says, something requires his attention. In case they think of doing anything stupid, there are guards outside. He leaves, and Lucky asks what Jason and Anna are doing here. Jason says, they’re here to take him home.
Drew says he was filling Ned in on his idea for Michael to take over as CEO, and Ned says, it was more like a mandate. Drew says, does Michael have time to join them? and Willow says, it’s fine. She’ll see him at the boathouse. Michael says, if they miss their reservation, he’ll make it up to her, and she says she knows. She leaves, and Michael says he takes it Ned’s not on board, and Drew says, Ned’s creating conflict where there is none. They need to get ELQ on solid ground and it’s easier if they’re on the same page. Ned says, it’s always two against one, and Drew says, Ned’s right. Ned says, that’s a first, and Drew says, no more two against one. He’s confident they’ll figure it out on their own. He leaves, and Michael says he doesn’t have an agenda. He just wants to do what’s best for the family. Ned says he believes Michael. It’s not Michael he doesn’t trust. It’s Drew.
Tracy asks if Stella is suggesting she’s harboring romantic feelings for Cody. If so, she’s ready too many trashy novels. Stella says she’s not saying that… Not that she would blame Tracy. They’ve been meeting for several months and it’s clear by how much she talks about Cody, that they’ve become close. He even took her out on the lake in that old rowboat. They confide in each other. She was one of the first people Cody told when he found out Mac was his real father. Tracy says she’s mentioned him more than she realized, and Stella says, he’s a good friend and now he’s reunited with his family and he’s with Sasha. Tracy is afraid of losing him. And why not? Look at where they are. She points to Gregory’s plaque on the bench, and Tracy says, it’s been a difficult year. She hasn’t spoken to Finn in months. Stella says, another good friend. Loss is hard. Tracy says, losing Gregory was harder. He was one of her closest confidents. And there’s Luke. She misses him most of all. Luke, Finn, and Gregory were all so compelling, especially Luke. They’re very different, but Cody reminds her of him. Maybe she just wants to see that, but she thinks they share a lot of the same qualities. Stella says, it’s safe to say he’s important to her, and Tracy says she couldn’t stand another relationship slipping away.
Lucky says he appreciates the effort, but Jason says he doesn’t understand. Lucky says, just get himself and Anna out. Sidwell talks a big game, but he’s not going to kill him or Holly. Jason says, there’s no time. Lulu had a medical crisis and needs a liver transplant. Lucky is her best shot at a donor and has to get home as soon as possible. Sidwell comes back and says, apologies. Now, where were we?
Stella says she’s sorry about Luke, Gregory, and Finn, and Tracy says, at least Finn is still alive. Stella says, but he’s not present in the way Tracy wishes he was. Grief isn’t linear. There are ups and downs, twists and turns. Tracy says, her own personal roller coaster. She wants to get off the ride now. Stella says, you think you’re making progress and you’re at peace, then out of nowhere, it hits like a ton of bricks. Tracy says, it sounds like she’s speaking from experience, and Stella says, a few weeks ago, she heard My Girl. She and Irene used to play it over and over, and dance and sing for hours. She was in her car and just lost it. She’s convinced, the deeper the love, the longer the journey. Tracy says, there’s no bond like siblings. She had a brother. He drove her crazy like nobody else. Why get involved with people when you’re just going to lose them? Stella says, everything Tracy feels is normal. Although maybe she should temper her reaction. Tracy says she guesses she owes Sasha an apology, and Stella says, that’s a good place to start. Tracy says she’s sorry for scolding Stella. It’s not going to happen again… if there is an again. Stella asks if Tracy doesn’t recognize a good friend sitting next to her. She’s not a compelling man, but she is a compelling woman if she does say so herself. Tracy says she has to agree.
Ned says he gets that Michael is in it for the family and sees he’s willing to put aside what he wants for the greater good. Michael says, but Ned doesn’t think Drew is, and Ned says he knows Drew isn’t. Michael says, no one has come through for the family more than Drew, and Ned says, they’re grateful, but Drew is a Quartermaine through and through. He wasn’t always like he is now, but maybe his struggles changed him. He knows Drew is out for himself and will take what he wants. Michael says he’s never seen anything to indicate that, but Ned says, keep his eyes open. Just because Michael’s intentions are pure doesn’t mean Drew’s are. He’ll never fully trust Drew, and if Michael is smart, he won’t either. He leaves.
Creeper Drew goes to the boathouse, and Willow asks what he’s doing here. He says he could tell she was upset and wanted to say he’s sorry. He didn’t mean to ruin her night with Michael. She says, it doesn’t matter. She’s continually asked him to stay away, but he doesn’t care. He says, of course (🍷) he does, and she says she has feelings for him that are jeopardizing her marriage, and it makes her feel like absolute crap. He says she doesn’t want her to feel that way, and she says, then stop running into her and checking on her. She needs him to leave her alone.
Sidwell says he’ll put down first, and lays his cards out. Lucky puts his down, but Jason folds. Sidwell tells the guards to take Jason and bring Holly back. Jason’s loss is English’s gain. She always lands on her feet. Give his condolences to Anna. It was pleasure playing cards with him. Lucky says he’s sorry, and Jason says, get home safe. The guards lead him out, and Sidwell says, for a savvy card player, Jason is naïve. Lucky’s not going anywhere.
Maxie sees Ned and says she has papers for Tracy and Brook. He asks if it’s Deception business, and she says, it is. She asks if he can keep an eye on James. One time, the lake; two times, a disappearing act. Ned says he’s got it, and Maxie says she won’t take long. Good luck. Ned asks, what’s new? and James asks if Ned kisses people on the lips. Ned laughs and says he does, but only one person, his wife Olivia. James says, kissing his mom makes Spinelli happy. Why would one kiss make Willow sad?
Cody tells Sasha that he and James talked about her and how grateful he is to have her in his life. James asked if she was part of his family. He hopes he wasn’t out of turn saying yes. She says, nothing would make her happier, and they kiss.
Holly says she’ll never forget the day Anna showed up, the woman from Robert’s past. Anna was awful. Her marriage to Robert was the sweetest time of her life. She thinks she knew in her heart something that special can’t last. Anna says she remembers how at peace and content Robert was with Holly. She guesses she felt bad about getting in the middle of that. She thinks Holly made Robert happy in a way she never did. Holly says, Robert will never be happy again if she lets Anna die here, but she can’t figure out how to prevent it. Anna says she doesn’t think Holly can, but Holly says she told Anna, no way is she going back to Robert and telling him that she left Anna here to die. The guards bring Jason in, and one of the guards punches him in the stomach just because. They take Holly, and Anna says, tell Robert to tell her, but Holly says, don’t give up. Jason says he’s sorry. He lost the game. Anna shrugs and says she knew he would.
Sidwell wonders what Jason’s hand was and Lucky looks at the cards. He says, a losing one, and Sidwell says, Lucky’s trend continues. Lucky says, they did what he wanted. They played his sick game and now two people are going to die. Sidwell says, that doesn’t mean the deal changed. If Lucky loses… Lucky asks if he’s not bored, but Sidwell says, not even a little bit. Lucky says he thinks it’s time they shake things up, put in something for him. They play a hand and if he wins, he goes free. Holly is brought back, and Sidwell tells the guard to take the other two to the courtyard. He welcomes Holly back, and she says she’s glad that unpleasantness is behind them. She’ll forgive him this once. Since they’re still playing, she’ll go to her room. Sidwell tells her to stay and tells Lucky that he’s right. It’s high time they reset the terms.
Cody knocks everything off the table, and he and Sasha start to get busy. Tracy clears her throat, and they see her standing in the doorway. (Why do they continually leave this door open?)
On the phone, Michael says he’s off the grid for the rest of the night. He has plans with his wife. Maxie walks in and says, he makes his family priority. She wonders how he’s not pulled in different directions. She’s having a hard time, and she only works for one company. He says, there’s nothing more important than Willow and the kids, and she says, Spinelli usually gets the short end of the stick, but he’s patient and kind about it. She hereby declares she’s making her relationship a priority. Michael suggests a standing date night. Twice a month minimum, one a week if they can swing it. She says, they’re both lucky they found their person.
Willow says, please just go, and Drew says he will, but he wants her to know that he understands. He’s going through the same thing. She says, he’s not married. He’s amazing and her heart races when she sees him. It puts what matters at risk and she wishes she could make it go away, but she’s having trouble. He can help. He helped her in Greenland. Help her now. Stay away from her. Please. He leaves.
James asks if sad and guilty are the same, and Ned says, sometimes. James asks what guilty means, and Ned says, it means you feel bad about something and wish you hadn’t done it. He’s confused. What does that have to do with Willow and a kiss? James says he heard Willow tell Aunt Nina that she felt guilty for kissing Drew. (Rut-roh. Congratulations, Ned. You’re the new CEO of ELQ!)
Jason says, Sidwell is going to kill them, and Anna says, he made that clear. He says, their only chance is to jump them, but she says, they’re armed. She has to get the cuffs off of him. She can’t go after them alone. He picks up the paper clip and she works at the cuffs, but she says, it’s not working. It’s not strong enough. It’s just bending. She can find a nail. She searches the bed, and says, if she can get it out… Frustrated, she lifts the bed and it bangs on the floor, and Jason says, just try again. She starts to cry and says she can’t do it. He tells her, stop, and she says, sorry. This is it, isn’t it? They’re going to die in here tonight. She hugs him, and it looks like they’re about to kiss, but they’re distracted by a door clanging. Jason listens for a moment, then kisses Anna. (I wrack my brain trying to remember if they’ve ever been involved.)
Sidwell says, Lucky isn’t just playing to keep himself alive. Holly lives as long as Lucky continues to win. Holly says she refuses, and Sidwell asks if she thinks she has a say. She smacks his face and says, he brought her to this hellhole just to be part of his sad game. He grabs her and says, does she think he didn’t know she was after his diamonds? Does she think he’d let her cheat him? She grabs his gun and tells him not to lay his hands on her. And don’t think of calling the guards. She asks if Lucky can get free, and he says he’s way ahead of her, already out of the cuffs and leg irons. He asks where Anna and Jason are, and she says, they’re in the same cell he was. Sidwell knocks the gun out of her hand.
Tomorrow, Cody says, Tracy should know if she does, he’s going too; Robert tells Diane, don’t be too sure on that; Brennan tells Carly that he’ll do as much as he can, the rest is up to them; and Sonny says he would have hoped Martin would make that happen.
🧼 At the Starting Gates…
This sounds pretty good. Doubtful I’ll watch it during its daytime slot, but I’m sure it will stream as well. Could this mean daytime is taking a turn for the soap? Premiering on CBS in early 2025.
Fancy Pants couldn’t figure out why it was two steps forward with Gina and Emily, and said there was a piece of the puzzle missing. Yeah, the piece that’s Heather’s ego. She and Terry got in a little spat, which was interesting. He was annoyed with her talking over him (ugh, same, I hate that), and told her not to admonish him on camera. They tried to hide from the camera when they had that conversation, but Andy sees all.
Johnny J. wouldn’t settle the suit with Shannon (try saying that three times real fast) because he wouldn’t sign an agreement not to say bad things about her. I’m still confused as to who asked for this in the first place, since I thought this whole thing started because she was talking smack about him. Alexis said he’d lost everything, and it was all coming out tomorrow. While we assumed she meant the videos, which he admitted keeping for blackmail purposes (!), it was just an article in the press about the lawsuit, which is par for the course. Shannon butt-dialed Tamra, who heard her wailing about it and saying she thought Alexis’s PR team was behind it.
Katie was having a couples’ dinner party so husband Matt could make friends. It was funny when Katie listed the names of the guests for Matt. I got the feeling they went right back out of his head the second she said them. Ryan had gone on a podcast and trashed Eddie, and Shane wondered if there was going to be a boxing match. I like Shane. He seems normal. In her interview, Katie said, just be kind around the wineglasses. Emily said, Fancy Pants wasn’t invited because she didn’t acknowledge Katie’s existence, but Terry had just undergone surgery to fix his snoring nose, so that could have actually been why. Gina was away, and Katie said she didn’t want Shannon feeling like a ninth wheel, although I’m pretty sure Shannon would still be offended at not getting an invite. Especially since she was whining about being all alone… except she had Archie… sniff… Hey, you can do worse than a dog. When Eddie asked if there were name tags at the table, Emily said he was by Ryan. I literally lol’d and even Eddie had to laugh. Yeah, if I was going to hang out with anybody IRL, it would be Emily and Shane.
Tamra kept downing martinis, and in her interview, Jenn said the last time Tamra got drunk like this, she (Jenn) had a napkin thrown in her face, and we flashed back to that. They discussed Alexis being looney toons and this led to Emily weeping over the whole dress thing again. It’s a shame Emily still feels like she’s overweight. She doesn’t seem to understand that the size number doesn’t matter. Even at my thinnest, my waist only gets so small. Tamra wanted to talk about the elephant in the room, or as Emily put it, the two big elephants. Because you should always discuss these things at a dinner party. At least in Housewifeland. This led to Tamra and Ryan arguing about his love of married women. Eddie kept trying to get her to shut up, while the other husbands looked at the sky, the grass, or their drinks. It didn’t take long for Tamra’s vocal register to hit screech level, and she ended up stumbling out of the party by herself, saying, I’m done.
The Amazon version sounds awesome. When it comes out on DVD, I want the Blu-ray with the pop-up Deadpool army. Yes, I bought the Game of Thrones makeup set with the pop-up throne. I’m that kinda girl.
I’m not surprised. There was really nothing like seeing this on the big screen. I would have walked on glass to get there. Not broken glass, but maybe that safety glass like they use for car windows.
I saw this on the news and got an adrenaline rush just from watching it. Thank God she was right there and moved fast. We don’t have coyotes here, but we didn’t used to have deer in the backyard either.
Join me tomorrow for soap and whatever nuggets of entertainment I can dig up. Until then, stay safe, stay organizing your environment for inner peace, and stay peeling back the layers until you get to the root of your problem.
(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)
General Hospital
Carly tells Lulu to hang in there. Jason is going to bring Lucky home and get her what she needs. She sees Sam in the hallway, and says, Dante just left. Sam says, Dante told her that Carly was here, and Carly asks, what’s up? Sam says she needs Carly’s help. Help her save her mother.
Martin says he doesn’t think Alexis is taking this seriously, and she says, if she gave him that impression, she apologizes. He needs to keep Kristina out of this. He tells her, if that’s what she wants, let him do the next best thing, and she says, point them in the direction of another suspect. He says, the perfect suspect – Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny goes to Kristina’s apartment and tells her that Diane said she needed help. She said Chase was here. Did he force her to answer any questions? Kristina says, no, but she may have screwed up anyway, and he asks if she said she had the gun. She says she knows better than that, but he asked her how she got around that night and she thinks she might have said too much. He says, that’s why you can’t talk to the police without an attorney, and Kristina says, all that matters is that he knows the truth. All of it.
Jordan brings Isaiah a donut for breakfast, and says she expects a five-star review. He says she and the staff are taking good care of him, and she says, when he’s allowed to leave, there’s a lot more of Port Charles for him to explore. Has he been given a discharge date? He says, not yet. He’s getting stronger every day, but her son might have a different assessment. Her phone rings, and she steps away to take the call. She asks if they’ve double checked that it’s the correct spelling… She’ll make pickup arrangements. She thanks them, and Isaiah says, important package? She says, it is, and he asks if she wants to talk, but she says, talking won’t help.
Holly says she hopes Anna and Jason are comfortable, and Anna says, when Sidwell and Holly invited them back to their camp… Sidwell asks if she thought they’d sit by the fire in the dirt drinking boiled water out of animal skins, and she says she guesses this is a step up. Holly asks if she should order drinks or something to eat while they prepare for their game, but Sidwell says, it’s not necessary. First, they have to find out why Anna and Jason are really here.
While Lucky is picking the lock, he hears someone and hides the penknife he’s using.
Alexis says, going with the-other-guy-did-it defense sounds like Martin wants to take it to trial, and he says, he wants the prosecution looking at Sonny. He’ll use every arrow in his quiver to exonerate her. She says, he can’t take it to trial. Kristina is going to be in the courtroom. He asks what’s wrong with her? Her license was just reinstated. The jury wants to see family in the courtroom. She says, it’s another chance for Kristina to incriminate herself and she will. If she sees it’s going badly, she’ll stand up and do what it takes to protect her mother at her own peril. He says, unless Alexis is willing to take a deal, which won’t be generous, their only option is going to trial and pointing the suspicion in Sonny’s direction.
Carly asks what she can do, and Sam says, tell the truth. She said she was Sonny’s alibi when Cates was killed. Carly says she gave her statement, but Sam says, there’s no way in hell she and Sonny slept together in Tracy’s bed. Carly says, we all have moments were not proud of, and Sam says, if it wasn’t so ludicrous, it would be funny. There’s no way she and Sonny are getting back together. She’s begging Carly to come clean and clear her mom.
Kristina says she didn’t tell Sonny everything. She went to the Quartermaines that night. He asks, why? and she says, to kill John Cates.
Isaiah says, Jordan helped him, and he’d like to return the favor. She says she wishes talking would help, and he asks if she can think of a time it didn’t help a situation. He understands if she can’t discuss work. She says, it’s not work, and he says he doesn’t want to overstep, but he’s not used to not doing anything. She says, he’s healing, and he says, doctors make the worst patients, but they’re great listeners. She says, her son and his partner were having a baby by a surrogate. There was an altercation, and the surrogate fell out a hotel window. The baby didn’t survive. He asks, how far along was she? and Jordan says, a week away. It was a girl. He says, her granddaughter was stillborn. He’s so sorry. She says, the call was about the headstone. It’s ready. He says, is she ready? and she says, TJ and Molly are suffering. She’s just helping them pick up the pieces. She’s only the grandmother. This is their loss. He says, that’s not true. It’s hers too.
A guard brings Lucky some food, and Lucky wonders if it’s steak, lobster, or surf and turf. He asks if the guard wants to join him. The food and beatings are pretty good here. The guard says, Lucky deserved it, and Lucky says he usually does. Should he psych himself up for another all-night card game? If the answer is yes, he wants to start praying now. The guard says, his prayers were answered tonight. Sidwell came back with some fancy guests. Lucky says, fancier than you and me? He asks if the guard can smuggle him a scotch and a few canapés, but the guard walks away. Lucky says he knows they’re friends, but he can’t read the guard’s silences yet. Fancy guests means there’s one vehicle on the site at least, and he only needs one to get out. He gets the knife that came with his food, and picks at the lock. (Kind of strange that they gave him a knife, but okay.)
Sidwell asks if Anna and Jason are in the habit of accepting invitations from strangers, and Anna says, the company is nice, and although it wasn’t her preferred mode of transport, any good business transaction requires a certain degree of sacrifice. He asks what business she’s in, and she says, platinum, gold, diamonds. They have that in common. He says, possibly, and she says, good. She wants in.
Alexis tells Martin, it’s not as simple as pointing a finger at Sonny. If he targets Sonny, Kristina will defend him too. He says, Kristina only has one parent in prison. He’s trying to do his job, but she’s tying his hands. She says she’s sorry. She knows she’s making it a challenge, but Kristina will defend both of her parents, and she’ll do it in a way that will ruin her life. He says, Kristina is an adult, and she can’t control herself or be controlled in a courtroom? and Alexis says, yeah. He asks if she has any plans for a defense, and she says, trust the system. She’s innocent. The truth will prevail. He says, the whole truth or half of it? If she doesn’t come forward and say what Kristina was doing the night of the murder, it’s not an arrow in their quiver. She says, how about the fact that John Cates was hated by everyone? His list of enemies is impressive. Find one and point his finger. It’s not that hard.
Sonny says he knows where Kristina’s head was at. John Cates was harassing her and tormenting her for weeks. Her feelings were all over the place. She probably felt like the only way to stop the pain was to end Jagger’s life. She was going through a mental health crisis. Not a lot of people understand, but he does.
Sam and Carly go to Lulu’s room, and Carly says she’s sorry for Sam and Alexis. She knows Sam’s family is going through hell, but Alexis tossed the gun. Alexis made a choice and got herself in this situation. She and Sonny didn’t. She gets that it’s easy to blame Sonny, but this time it’s not Sonny’s fault. Sam says she doesn’t believe that, and Carly says she believes Alexis is a good lawyer and can get herself out of this. Sam says, Alexis loves and wants to protect her children at all costs. Carly would do the same for her kids. Carly says, absolutely, and Sam says, then show some empathy. It won’t clear Alexis, but the truth will. Sonny is a professional with resources. His people will get him out. She knows he and Carly share history. So much, that protecting him is like breathing to her. She gets it, but the alibi isn’t only keeping Sonny out of prison. It’s keeping her mother in.
Jordan tells Isaiah that she was most excited about seeing her son with her granddaughter. He’d be an amazing father, and she wanted to see that. Isaiah asks if she’s talked to anyone, and she says she’s talking to him. He says he’s flattered, but she’s dealing with something so big, it can be hard to find her way through it. She says, and find closure? and he says, if it exists. She says, maybe she should try, and thanks him.
Holly asks if the evening is going to descend into business chatter. It was supposed to be fun. Sidwell gave her his word. Sidwell says, they’ll return to the fun, and Holly says, while he hammers out whatever, she’s going to freshen up. She leaves, and Sidwell says, assuming they have business interests in common, what does Anna know about that? She says she knows he sells his materials in Dubai, but the market there for precious metals and jewels is inundated. He tells her to make her pitch, and she says she’s in a position to help him move his materials through Switzerland, where he’ll get a substantially higher return on his investment. He asks what Jason moves, and Jason says, her. Anna says, he’s her security, and Sidwell asks about the cuddling at the club. Anna says, there’s always perks. He can secure a profit in a Swiss bank, which has more flexible and transactional speed than a bank in the Caymans. He says, this might be his lucky day… or maybe something else entirely. Give him a reference.
Anna gives Sidwell a number to call and give her information, and says, then maybe they can get back to the evening as planned. A guard makes the call, and Sidwell says, Jason is quieter than he was at the poker table. Would Jason like to have a drink to accidently soak him with? Jason says he’ll have what Anna is having, when the guard comes back and whispers something to Sidwell. Sidwell says, Anna’s references checked out. He thinks doing business with her would be both profitable and interesting. She asks if he would have preferred the alternative, and he says, no. He would have preferred something less convenient.
Lucky hears the lock click, and says, baby, we are out of here. He runs into Holly outside the cell, and she says, perfect timing. She’s come to rescue him.
Kristina says she spoke to Felicia who referred her to a counselor and a support group, and Sonny says he’s extremely proud of her. A lot of people are afraid and ashamed of what people think, but you gotta do what you need to do to take care of business. She says she knows. Someone she respects, admires, and loves very much gave her an example to follow. He puts his arm around her, and she puts her head on his shoulder.
Carly says she can’t give Sam what she wants, and Sam asks if Carly is going to let her mother go to prison, maybe for the rest of her life, for a crime she didn’t commit. She’s that loyal to Sonny. She can warn Sonny and let him and Diane get their ducks in a row, as long as she comes clean. Carly says her cousin is fighting for her life. That’s the only thing she cares about, saving Lulu’s life. Sam says she’s not sure what Carly is doing to save Lulu, and Carly says, Sam needs to leave. Sam says, Carly is doing what she always does. Nothing. Jason is the one saving Lulu, risking his life going to Africa to find Lucky, but Carly already knew that, right? Because she asked him to.
Jordan goes to see Alexis, and Alexis asks if she’s visiting as Deputy Mayor. Jordan says she’s here as a grandmother, and Alexis says, anything new? Jordan says, Irene’s headstone is finished, and they’ll be placing it soon, and Alexis says, maybe it will be some closure for TJ and Molly. Jordan says, and them, and Alexis says, they were going to spoil their grandchild together until everything happened. Jordan says, that covers a lot. They both haven’t had much time to deal with the loss. Alexis says, Kristina has been in crisis since she went out that window, and Molly isn’t far behind. Her feelings are inconsequential. Jordan might be the only one who knows how she feels. Jordan says, TJ told her that Kristina was going to sue for custody and was planning to take Irene away from him. Was Alexis going to help?
Martin meets Molly in an unidentified restaurant, and she says she saw him listed as her mother’s attorney and thought they should meet. He says he doesn’t think they can ignore the obvious potential for a conflict of interest, but she says she’s not here as an ADA. She’s here as a concerned daughter. He says he’s not sure the court will see the difference, but she says, only he needs to see it. She was wondering who hired him. He says he can’t give her that information, and she says she’s guessing it was Uncle Sonny. She already knew before they he sat down. He says, then why ask to meet with him? and she says, his misgivings about Sonny’s involvement in this case, and Sonny hiring him proves she was right to worry.
Sonny says, no matter what you’re dealing with, killing someone is never the answer, and Kristina says, never? He says, when you make the decision to kill someone, even if it’s a piece of garbage like John Cates, it marks you and you carry that burden for the rest of your life. He doesn’t want that for her. She says, what about for him? Is he carrying that burden?
Carly says, Lucky is their best chance at saving Lulu, so yes, she asked Jason to find him and bring him home. She’s not apologizing. Sam says she doesn’t expect Carly to apologize for anything. She’s just asking Carly to think about somebody else’s family besides her own. Danny couldn’t be prouder that his father went to find lucky. Carly asks if Sam is proud, and Sam says she’s terrified for Jason. She prays he comes home safe, and she doesn’t have to tell her son for the second time that his father is dead. She prays Jason is as invincible as Danny thinks. Carly says, what happened to Lulu is killing Dante and Rocco, but Sam says, that’s not the point. Carly asked her son’s father to risk his life again, so she’s asking for something in return. Please recant her statement. She’s not asking Carly to lie or frame anyone. She’s just asking her to tell the truth. Carly says she knows the right thing to do, and leaves.
Holly tells Lucky that the guests can’t stall Sidwell for long, and he asks if those are the fancy guests. She says, come on, and he asks if it’s the WSB. Do they have a vehicle? He won’t even need keys. She says, they have to grab the guests. They can’t let them twist, but Lucky says he doesn’t care who twists. Holly says, trust her, and grabs his hand, but Sidwell and a guard arrive. (I literally gasp out loud.) He says, oh my darling English, how you’ve disappointed me.
Alexis says, when Kristina drew up the petition, she told Kristina to keep her out of it. She didn’t want to be in a position to choose. Jordan says, there are no winners there, and Alexis says, Kristina still came to her for advice. Jordan asks if Alexis gave it to her, but Alexis says, no. She took the petition and hung onto it. That’s how Molly found it. Jordan asks, why hold on to it? and Alexis says she believed when the hormones and emotions calmed down and Kristina saw how happy TJ and Molly were… Jordan says, she was hoping Kristina would change her mind, and Alexis says she never thought Kristina would go through with it. Jordan says, what if she had? but Alexis says she can’t answer that now. All she knows is they had a granddaughter who is now gone. Jordan says she was looking forward to meeting her, and Alexis says, her too. She was looking forward to being a grandmother with Jordan.
Molly says, the best way to free her mom is to turn the indictment on Sonny, and Martin says, hypothetically, one could see the merits of it, but hypothetically, it could be a conflict of interest that Sonny paid to retain him. He’s going to give her mother the best possible legal defense. Molly says, the best chance he has at defending her mother is to point the finger at Sonny and prove he killed Cates.
Sonny says, Jagger would have continued to punish Kristina to get to him. That’s no longer a problem. Kristina says, because of him, and he says, she knows how much she means to him. She says, yes, and he says, that’s all that matters. She says, what about mom? and he says, let him worry about that. She’s going to be okay. Kristina has got to trust him.
Carly asks if Isaiah is up for some good news, and he asks if Lucky was freed. She says, if everything goes as planned, it could happen any minute, but he says, Sidwell has a way of making things go wrong. She says she believes Lucky is coming home, and if anyone can do that, Jason can. Isaiah says, when she told him Lucky was being rescued, he thought she meant by a SEAL team or the WSB. One guy can’t bring Lucky home.
Holly is brought into the game room where Anna and Jason are handcuffed. She says, the handcuffs are chafing her and he promised her a diamond bracelet. Sidwell asks how she knows them and what’s her connection to Lucky? She says she was bringing him to the game. She knows Sidwell loves a challenge. Sidwell says, it was going so well. All she had to do was amuse him. She says, it’s a simple misunderstanding, but he says, don’t insult him. They were all made at the club in Nairobi. How is she connected to Anna? Holly says, Anna is a horrible woman. She’s the ex-wife of Holly’s ex-husband. She was happily married to a handsome man – she clearly has a type – and Anna did what she could to ruin her marriage and her life. Anna says she’s horrible, yet Holly is the ex, and Holly says she saw Sidwell catch Anna’s eye and thought Anna was doing it again, that it was history repeating itself. Sidwell asks why she didn’t say something, and she says she presumed he knew who she was and he was trying to make her jealous. He vets anyone and everyone around him. She didn’t think she knew something he didn’t. He asks what her connection to Lucky is, and she says she already told him. He says, tell him again or they’ll beat it out of her. Lucky says, she was just being nice. All he wanted was to work for Sidwell, and Sidwell threw him in a cell. He didn’t do anything and neither did Holly. Sidwell says, that remains to be seen. Does Lucky know what’s going on with Jason and Anna? Lucky says, they’re trying to take hm for everything he’s got.
Jordan says, some days, she’s almost okay. She has a lot of sadness, but doesn’t want to show it, especially in front of TJ and Molly. They’re grief isn’t bringing them closer. If they break up, it’s another tragedy. Alexis says, they’ve grown up loving each other, and Jordan says, they could lose that. Alexis says, or get to the other side together and be better for it, and Jordan says, no matter what, TJ and Molly will always have them. Alexis says, always. She’s loved TJ forever. Jordan says, when they got together, she knew TJ was happy, and he has been, and Alexis says, so has Molly. If something does happen, and she prays it doesn’t, know that she’ll always love TJ. He’ll always be a son to her. Jordan says, and Molly will always be a daughter to her.
Sonny says, Kristina’s mom will be fine. Concentrate on her treatment and don’t worry. She asks if he can make her a promise, and he says, anything. She says, promise mom won’t go to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. He says he gives her his word as her father. Her mom is going to get out of this. They all will.
Molly says, there’s got to be a weak link around Sonny. Martin has to find it and exploit it. Martin asks if she has any idea where to start… hypothetically. She says, he can cross Jason and Michael off the list, and Kristina obviously. But Carly could be something. If Sonny is guilty and she’s been lying about his alibi… Martin says, target the alibi, and Molly says, target Carly.
Carly tells Isaiah that Anna is with Jason. She’s a former WSB agent and Police Commissioner. He says, it’s crazy. Two people against an army of security. She says, the WSB can’t assist in an official capacity, but they have eyes on the ground and are helping unofficially. As it turns out, Anna and Jason didn’t have to infiltrate Sidwell’s compound. They were invited in. He says he’s not sure that matters. Her friends had better be as capable as Carly is saying. If they’re not, they’re going end up dead, right beside Lucky.
Sidwell says, it would be so easy to kill all of them, but it would be more interesting to give them a chance to keep breathing. Jason asks, what’s the game? and Sidwell says, three plays. If Jason wins, he and Anna get to live another day. If Lucky’s name proves to be accurate, he and Holly live. If he wins, they all die. Lucky looks at Holly.
Tomorrow, Tracy says, if Stella doesn’t agree, they might have to rethink their arrangement; from behind bars, Anna says she needs to ask a favor of someone; Willow says she needs creeper Drew to leave her alone; and Jason says lucky has to get home as soon as possible.
⚾️ Put Him In, Coach…
As much as I like him, I once dated somebody who wanted to be NYC’s baseball commissioner (whatever the hell that is), and I’ve had enough of baseball to last me a lifetime. We went to every single home game of the Mets and Yankees that year, including an endless Mets game where every inning was the same and I swear we were the last people in the stands.
A lot of the episode was focused on newbie Bronwyn making a remark about Whitney, and Heather waiting until a group dinner to call her out. I was more interested in Bronwyn, Heather, and Lisa going to Wendy’s. Apparently, Lisa has a partnership with them, and they were also featured in this season’s first episode. I love Wendy’s burgers, but their buns are the worst. They’re cheap and fall apart easily. Can I call Lisa about this? And why was weird Omen music playing in the background when Lisa went to meet Angie? What I was more interested in was Whitney hosting a drag night at Trixie Mattel’s bar in Milwaukee. She invited (I think) everyone, and they’re going by private jet. I’d give my bouffant and heels for an invite like that. But I suppose the closest I’ll get is next week’s episode.
Kudos and more kudos to Tammy for her 500 pound weight loss. I’m struggling with 15. While I don’t clear my schedule to watch it, I’m kind of fascinated with this show. More with the family dynamic than anything else, but I’m always down for a massive weight loss tale. I’m also a fan of My 600-lb Life. I love Dr. Nowzaradan. He’s so cranky, yet quirky funny. The new season of Sisters premieres October 8th.
Not a bad list of scary movies to stream. My take on their list: Nightmare on Elm Street – a classic; The Amityville Horror – good, but a lot of lost opportunities to be better; American Werewolf in London – I love, love, love this movie; Arsenic and Old Lace – old films aren’t usually my jam, but this one is funny; The Babadook – I am the only person on earth who was disappointed, but you do you; Beetlejuice – the detail is amazing and how can you not love him; Bell, Book and Candle – love the 50s NYC vibe; Bodies Bodies Bodies – very funny with an unexpected ending; The Cabin in the Woods – one of the best horror films ever made and I was astonished at the special effects; The Conjuring – maybe I’m jaded, but meh; The Craft – great female ensemble film, like Jawbreaker, but with magic; Death Becomes Her – two great actresses and broad comedy; Evil Dead 2 – love Bruce Campbell, but all of the Evil Dead films have run together in my mind at this point; Frankenweenie – kind of precious; Halloween – another classic; Halloweentown – surprisingly, I never saw it; Hocus Pocus – more fun than a barrel of newts, and nothing is better than Bette Midler singing I Put a Spell on You; Kiki’s Delivery Service – never saw it, but not so surprising since I’m not that into animated films; Late Night With the Devil – I loved the premise, but wasn’t thrilled with the ending; The Night of the Living Dead – hail to the beginning of zombie greatness; The Nightmare Before Christmas – absolutely magnificent and I love Zero so much; The Return of the Living Dead – a helluva lot better than you’d think from the title; Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark – I haven’t seen it, but it looks intriguing; Scream – so much fun; Tigers Are Not Afraid – I haven’t seen it, but if it’s going to make me cry, I’m not sure I want to; Us – Jordan Peele is a genius master of horror; The Wailing – haven’t seen it, but putting it on my short list; and The Witch – I loved it as a period piece, but wanted something more. I’m not sure what, but something.
Join me tomorrow for soap and some OC shade. Until then, stay safe, stay savoring seasonal flavors (like those Trader Joe’s roasted vegetables they dole out like methadone during the autumn months); and stay doing what you need to do to take care of business, and don’t be afraid or ashamed of what people think.

General Hospital
Natalia walks into Pozzulo’s where Sonny is fighting with his espresso machine. He says his old machine was temperamental, but it worked. She says, why hang on ghosts of the past when there’s a perfectly good future staring him in the face?
Jack goes to Bobbie’s, and Carly says, he can’t get enough of this place. He says he’s a fan of the food and the company, and he has news. He got word from his man in Kenya. Anna and Jason located the compound Lucky is in, and they’re in transit there. She asks if they have back up, but he says, no need. They were invited by Sidwell. She says she’s nervous, and he says, she should be. They haven’t rescued Lucky yet. Carly asks if they’re close and safe, and he says, for now. She wonders what he isn’t telling her.
TJ finds Molly in the breakroom, along with a spread of bagels, and she says she thought she’d bring them a nice breakfast. She slept on the couch because she didn’t want to wake him. He says he appreciates that, but where was she last night?
Dante walks into Kristina’s apartment with her, and she thanks him for his help. She asks how Lulu is. How is the search for Lucky? He says, there’s been no news, but Lulu is strong like her. She says she doesn’t feel strong, and he says, she is. She just needs help. She says, it feels like it’s been a thousand years since she’s been home. So much has changed. He asks if she’s sure she’s going to be okay, and she says she’s fine, but she’s worried about her mom.
Alexis tosses and turns in her bunk, when Heather hangs her head down from the top bunk and says, good morning. Alexis says she wasn’t dreaming, and Heather laughs.
Jack tells Caarly, there are too many unknown variables. Sidwell’s mysterious companion could be an operative, but she’s not theirs. The element of surprise… Carly says, it’s now lost, and he says, they haven’t seemed to raise suspicions from their host yet. She says, Jason is the most capable man she knows, but he’s a terrible liar, and he says, Anna will have no trouble. Will Jason have a problem following her lead? She asks, why? and he says, some men find strong women threatening. She says, that’s so old school. She expected more of him. He says, she knows he likes strong, confident women, when Diane walks in. She says she’ll have her usual and an introduction to the new WSB station chief. Carly introduces Jack, then introduces Diane as her attorney. Jack says, she’s also Sonny’s attorney. Her reputation proceeds her. Diane tells him, what can she say? She’s a woman not to be trifled with. They shake hands, and Diane says she assumes he’s not here for an unauthorized interrogation. Carly says, he’s here for breakfast, and Diane tells her, that’s what they all say. Can she have a word? She’ll be brief. Jack says, far be it for him to come between a woman and her lawyer. He tells Carly, they’ll talk soon, and leaves. Diane says, so much for breakfast. What about not being seen with the handsome, eligible station chief? Carly needs to maintain appearances, and make it look like she and Sonny have reunited, as she led the PCPD to believe.
Natalia says, it’s a beautiful machine, and Sonny says, if he can’t find a way to make it work, how is he going to make coffee? She says she worked at a restaurant where the manager had a ton of old kitchen appliances he’d salvaged from junkyards. He said he was a collector, but she knew he was a hoarder. She convinced him to buy a state-of-the-art machine, and once she got it up and running, he now serves the best coffee in San Juan. Change is hard and sometimes you need a push in the right direction. He says, switching could be a risk, but she says, there’s no reward without a little risk.
Heather asks how Alexis enjoyed her bed, and Alexis says her back is killing her. Heather asks if she can help, and Alexis asks if her help involves a hook, but Heather says, new hip, no hook. She suggests Alexis splash cold water on her face to help get her going, and Alexis says, it’s not her first rodeo. She cups her hands to get some water, and says, it smells like wet feet. Heather says, the first night is always rough, and Alexis says she doesn’t intend to be here that long. Heather says, in the meantime, she’d like to do what can to help. She knows it’s a hard time for Alexis. Alexis says, they’re going to drop the charges, but Heather says she’s not talking about that. She knows Alexis lost a grandbaby and almost lost her daughter and she’s so sorry.
TJ asks if Molly was working late, but she says, no. She was at the Brown Dog. She needed a drink after her mom went to Pentenville. He says he’s sorry he was in surgery, but she says, don’t worry. She ran into Dex Heller. He’s a police officer now, and he was with her mom before court. He asks if they talked about the case, and she says, he’s been helpful. He says he texted, but she didn’t respond. He’s here for her and wants to help. She says, it was just a moment, and he says, she texted and left him a message, so she wanted to talk. He loves her and she can tell him anything.
Dante says, Kristina’s mom can handle herself fine. What she can’t handle is Kristina not taking care of herself. Kristina says she’s trying. She met with a therapist and joined a support group for grieving mothers who lost their babies. He says, she’s brave to acknowledge that she needs help and she’s getting it, but Kristina says she doesn’t feel the bravery part yet. She hopes the therapist helps. She’s all over the place. He says, it gets better, and she says, the hardest part is realizing she made terrible decisions. Now she doesn’t trust herself and she’s afraid she’ll keep making terrible decisions over and over again. She needs to prove to the family that she can handle this. He says she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. Just focus on herself and know she’s not alone. She says, he’s always had her back, and he says, of course (🍷). He’s her big brother and loves her. They hug, when there’s a knock at the door, and Dante opens it to Chase. Dante wonders if Chase was looking for him, but he says he’s here to see Kristina. She asks if everything is okay with her mom, and he says, as far as he knows. He hopes it’s not a bad time. He needs to ask her a few questions.
Diane says, Carly needs to do everything in her in power to make the alibi more convincing, and Carly says, like what? Diane says, no more flirting with overly friendly handsome, eligible men, and Carly says, they’re just friends. Diane says, it’s about appearances now that she and Sonny are back together, but Carly says, we’re not back together. It was a one-night stand. That’s all that happened. Diane says, that just sounds convenient. She and Sonny have to solidify it. Carly asks how Diane suggests she do that, and Diane says, move in with Sonny or have Sonny move in with her. Carly says, not going to happen. How about going to the park with Donna? Diane says, boring, not sexy. She’s being watched by the PCPD and maybe the Feds. She has to convince them that she and Sonny are mad for each other as opposed to arranging a custody agreement. Carly says, that’s not what she agreed to, but Diane says, too bad. It’s too late to go back on her story that they’re in love. Carly says, that’s not the story, and Diane says, if she can’t convince probing eyes that she and Sonny are reuniting, they’ll conclude it’s fiction and won’t stop digging until they find something damning. Carly says, the Feds have been after Sonny for years, and Diane says, it’s going to put Carly back on their radar. If Sonny is put behind bars, she’ll be an accessory after the fact. For now, Operation Strange Bedfellows remains in effect. Diane walks out.
Sonny and Natalia say, alla salute, and clink cups. Sonny takes a sip and says, it could be one of best espressos he’s had. Natalia tries hers, and says, it’s pretty good, but it could be better. She’s hard to please. He says, lucky he likes a challenge, and they clink cups again.
Molly says she loves TJ too, but she doesn’t know what to do anymore. Her mom is in Pentenville, and there’s a chance she’ll be staying there. He asks if it’s that bad, and she says, her mom is defending herself and should have never been interviewed by the police without a lawyer. She knows better. He asks what she thinks Alexis is doing, and she says, protecting Kristina. He says, why? From what? She says, her mom won’t say it, but she thinks Kristina is hiding something. Sam thinks Sonny did it, but her mom wouldn’t do this to save Sonny. She thinks Kristina had something to do with John Cates’s murder.
Chase says, it won’t take long, and Dante says he’s going to head back. Kristina thanks him, and he says, of course (🍷). Call him if she needs anything. When he’s in the hallway, he makes a call. He leaves a message saying, give him a call when they can. It’s about Kristina. He thinks she’s about to do something she shouldn’t. Kristina tells Chase, before he starts, she wants to make it clear. He can ask her anything about her mother, but she’s innocent. She didn’t commit a crime. He says he wants to talk about Kristina’s whereabouts the night John Cates was murdered.
Heather says she’s glad Alexis’s daughter survived the fall, but it’s so sad about her grandbaby. She had to be looking forward to being a grandma. Alexis says, she’s already a grandma, but she was looking forward to another little one. Heather says she’s spent time dreaming about being a grandma to Ace. Taking him to the zoo and playgrounds and getting him ice cream before dinner. Alexis says, before you know it, they’re at their first dance, and Heather says, that’s what she’s afraid of. She’s never held her grandson and had a shot at getting out for a minute, but nope. She’s not trying to turn the focus on her. She just wants Alexis to know she understands what she’s going through. Alexis thanks her, and Heather says, just know that if Alexis ruins one more night of her sleep, they’ve got a big problem. A guard opens the cell and asks Alexis to follow her. They’re going to see her lawyer. Alexis says, what lawyer?
Molly says, her mom sent herself to prison to shield Kristina from the consequences of her own actions. It’s the family dynamic. TJ says, Molly always had to be the strong one, but those days are over. She doesn’t have to go through this by herself. He’s with her, especially now. They’re still grieving the loss of their child. Molly’s phone dings and she says, it’s work. She has a meeting. She’s got to go. They’ll talk. She promises to try and get home early. She tells him to enjoy the bagels. She loves him. She leaves and he says he loves her too.
Sonny says, if he has more coffee, he won’t be able to sleep and he’s not sleeping well. Natalia says, Alexis or Kristina? and he says, both. He hired a lawyer for Alexis. She says, that’s generous, but she’s not surprised. Allie asked if she should reach out, but she’s not sure if it would make things better or worse. He says he thinks it would muddy the waters, and she says, let her know if there’s anything she can do to help. He asks if she can fix his toaster, and she says she’ll buy him a new one. Seriously, she’d like to help. Sonny says he appreciates it, and puts his hand on hers, when Carly walks in.
Martin says he’d like a moment alone with his client, and tells Alexis that Sonny retained him on her behalf. Alexis says she needs a moment to process. She hasn’t had her latte yet. He asks, how was her first night? and she says, all things considered, terrible. Sonny hired him? He says, she’s welcome to refuse, but he advises against it. She says she thinks she knows not to incriminate herself, and he says, yet she did at the PCPD. What was she thinking? She consents to having him as her lawyer, and he says, now it’s confidential. She says she had nothing to do with John’s murder, but considering how everything went down, she’s not sure they can convince a jury. He says, since she’s looking at spending the rest of her life in prison, tell him what did go down
Kristina says, her mother is in Pentenville awaiting trial for John Cates’s murder, but Chase is here questioning her again. He says, it’s an ongoing investigation and he’s tying up loose ends. What were her exact movements? She flashes back to Alexis saying, she doesn’t have an alibi, and had the means, motive, and opportunity to kill John. Kristina says, they’ve been over this, and Chase says, one more time for him. She says she’s realizing she was suffering from postpartum depression, and she was consumed with grief, and he says he’s sorry for her loss. She says she went to the cemetery to be with her daughter, and he asks if she saw anyone, but she says, not that she knows of. He asks if someone saw her on her way there. Did she drive? She says she must have. She’s having trouble recalling the details. He says he checked, and her car hasn’t left the MetroCourt garage since the accident. Did she drive her mom’s car?
Stella walks into the breakroom and asks if she missed the party. TJ says, Molly surprised him with breakfast, then had to run to a meeting, and she says, Molly managed to tell her where TJ was as she zoomed past. How is she doing? He says, not so good, and she says, her family is in crisis mode. He says, big time. She’s consumed with her mom’s legal troubles, but he feels it’s a diversion from dealing with losing Irene. She says, Molly will never come to terms with it unless she deals with it. That goes for both of them. He says, Molly is overwhelmed. He’s trying to be patient. He knows she’s grieving too, and he doesn’t want to blame or resent her, but he has to admit he’s starting to.
Sonny asks Carly, what’s up? and tells Natalia that they’ll do the deal later. He thanks her for her help with the machine, and Natalia leaves. Carly asks if he’s kidding her. Diane came into Bobbie’s and read her the riot act about flirting, while he’s getting handsy with what’s her name. He asks who she was flirting with, and she says, this isn’t a joke. Diane was serious. She thinks to keep them out of prison, they have to fall back in love.
Kristina says she told Chase everything she remembers. She’d love to help him find the killer, but she’s dealing with depression and things are foggy. He says he understands given what she’s been through, and she says she thinks she took a Ride Share. He asks which ones she uses, when there’s a knock at the door. She opens the door, and Diane is there with a takeout bag. Diane asks what Chase is doing here. She’s going to presume he’s her to check on his partner’s sister. That’s admirable. But if he’s in here in an official capacity and questioning her about the case, he’s going to have to make an appointment and make sure her counsel is present. He asks if that’s what Kristina wants, and she says, it makes sense. Chase asks what Diane is doing here in Noseytown, and she says, delivering soup. He tells Kristina that he’ll be in touch, and leaves. Kristina says she needs help. She thinks she said something incriminating. Diane says, not another word.
Alexis says, Kristina is in an extremely fragile state of mind, and Martin says, Sonny filled him in. She asks if Sonny told him about the chain of events beforehand. Cates was tormenting Kristina while she was recuperating from a traumatic situation. He says, that’s despicable. Does she have something to add? She says she thought Kristina would crack and found a gun in her purse, and he asks if that’s the one she threw off the bridge. Alexis says she thought Kristina would hurt herself and she wanted the gun out of her house. He says, she was deliberately shielding her daughter, and she’s got to amend her statement. Just explain why she felt she should take the gun and Krishna’s emotional state. Alexis says, no one is going to believe it, and he says, they’ll sell it. She says, then she’ll have to explain why her car ended up at the Quartermaines and the reason why, and he says, which was? She says, Kristina was looking for Cates to kill him.
Carly says she and Sonny have to seem romantically involved and need to spend more time with each other, and he says he thought it was a one-time thing. She says she thought the same, but Diane said there’s no way it will hold up as an ironclad alibi. It’s too convenient. They have to convince everyone that they’re back together. Sonny says he pays Diane a lot of money for her advice, and she says, he’s the number one suspect. They’re still looking for evidence. He asks if she’s up for doing this, and she says, what else can she do? He says he guesses she’s stuck as his girlfriend, and she says she doesn’t mind pretending for the sake of the alibi, but she’s not going to lie to Donna and Avery, especially Donna. If she thinks her parents are getting back together and we don’t, it will break her heart.
At the hospital, Dante asks if Chase is following him, and Chase says, while he was interviewing Kristina, Diane showed up. Does Dante have any idea why? Dante says, Kristina is going through a lot. She lost her baby, and her mom is in jail. It’s not a good time. Chase says he was just doing his job, investigating the murder of an FBI agent. Kristina is hiding something, and she was willing to talk until Dante got in the way.
Diane says she’s not Kristina’s lawyer, and the privilege of confidentiality doesn’t exist. Kristina says she thinks she said… but Diane says, whatever it was, don’t say it. She doesn’t need to know more. The good news is, Chase was interrogating her without counsel, so whatever he learned is inadmissible. Kristina says, thank God. She thinks she incriminated herself big time. Diane says, Kristina still has a problem.
Alexis says, if the police find out Kristina had a weapon and was in the vicinity of the murder, they’ll realize she had the – they say it together – means, motive, and opportunity. Martin says, that’s the case they’re building against Alexis. Is she absolutely confident Kristina had nothing to do the crime? She says, 100%, and he says, then amend her statement. Give the police the facts. Let them do their job and investigate. She says, if someone is going to stand trial for a murder they didn’t commit, it’s going to be her. Kristina can’t handle it. If he wants to back out, she understands. He says he should, and she asks why he’s still here. He says, there’s one other choice she can make if she’s willing to take it.
Stella says she doesn’t think TJ needs to end his and Molly’s story yet. Give Molly time and be kind to himself. Be honest about his grief. TJ says, it comes and goes, but when it comes, it’s overwhelming, and she says she knows. He says he wanted to ask Molly to visit Irene’s grave, but she bolted before he had a chance, and Stella says she has a light afternoon. They can go together.
Diane says, it’s important that Kristina retain her own counsel, and Kristina says, Diane just told her that what she said is inadmissible. Diane says, it can’t be used in court. However, if it’s truly incriminating, Chase can open up a new investigation. Kristina says she opened her mouth and wasn’t thinking about what was coming out, and Diane says, Chase is a skilled interrogator. She bought Kristina time. Now Kristina has to get busy and find an attorney. Chase isn’t going to forget what she said.
Chase reminds Dante that he recused himself from the case due to conflict of interest, and Dante asks if Chase is accusing him of something. He feels like Chase is. Chase says, he’s too close to be involved. He knows Dante cares about his sister, and she’s been through a lot, so he’s going to let it go with a warning. Do it again, and he’ll turn Dante in. (I’m failing to see for what. Dante called a lawyer for his sister to make sure her rights weren’t trampled on, and he’s not on the case. It seems more like Chase was being unethical.)
Carly says she’ll go along with Diane’s plan, but she and Sonny have to be honest with their daughter. Sonny says he agrees. They won’t play the family things, but they have to be out together, drinking and dinner. How about tonight? She says, okay, it’s a date, and he says, don’t be flirting with other guys.
Alexis says she’s willing to do anything as long as it doesn’t involve her daughter, and Martin says, if she doesn’t come forward about the gun and what Kristina was doing that night, their only chance of winning is to prove John Cates was murdered by the man paying his fee – Sonny Corinthos.
Tomorrow, Sam asks Carly to help her to save her mother; Molly says she was right to worry; and Sidwell says, this might be his lucky day.
🩺 A Lot Of ‘Splainin’ To Do…
I don’t care how she spins it, Portia seems to have times of being totally irrational. I get her weak justification, but what bugs me is how many of them jumped right to Heather being set free. She probably will be since she’s under contract, but it’s hardly likely in the real world. She’d be sent to Spring Ridge or something.
Whitney decided to take a trip to Spain with friends and family to celebrate her 40th birthday. At the end of last week’s episode, she broke down when a man she’d met online stood her up after suggesting she meet him at a restaurant on the beach. To his credit, he did call and say he wasn’t coming, but to his debit, he waited until the last possible minute and there was no actual excuse given. Like, I’m dead, would have been good. During her interview, poor Whitney cried that she couldn’t even get a first date, and she felt that she was truly cursed. My heart broke for her. It grieves me that any woman would be this distraught over any man, but it was also sad how she felt no one would ever love her. I believe there’s someone for everyone, and I also believe the best love is found when you’re not looking. Despite this long-distance d-bag, Whitney’s birthday turned out to be her best one after all.
One of the most enjoyable things about this show has been the Plath offspring discovering things that we take for granted, but are new to them. Soda! Wine! Television! Sugar! Cities! In this week’s episode, Ethan talked about babysitting a three-year-old and being more interested in SpongeBob SquarePants than the toddler was. Micah buying an engagement ring for Veronica to wear as a cocktail ring was just weird, and maybe a little insulting. You’re good enough to drink with, but…
They are kind of judgy. I don’t think Olivia is a narcissist. I think the reason she believes everything is about her is that she’s immature, not unlike the Plath clan. And she, too, is experiencing things most of us would take for granted. We move out (hopefully) sometime after high school, do stupid sh*t, and eventually focus and find a path for our lives. She got a late start.
I watched all of this except the final episode over the weekend. Saving that for later. I had tried watching the Dahmer series, but only made it through two episodes. It was just too depressing, although not for the reasons you might think. I couldn’t watch a side of my beloved NYC that I never saw and never want to. But I have no investment in the Menendez story, so I binged away. The acting from everyone is impressive, but bravo to Nicholas Chavez for breaking away from GH’s Spencer. I was skeptical about his acting prowess, since I felt Spencer was often talking too fast and too loudly, but I wasn’t sure if he was just directed that way or the director was afraid to direct him and that was his style. Happens. Apparently, it was the character, because his portrayal of Lyle is incredible. The series is graphic for sure, so those with weak stomachs might want to take a pass, but it’s a fascinating watch for the rest of us.
To answer the author’s question, I think there are as many different reasons for people becoming monsters as there are monsters.
It sounds like Murphy is right and Erik hasn’t seen it. While there were a lot of tributaries depicting scenarios that may or may not have been true, the abuse was definitely part of the story and not just hinted at. It was actually pretty disgusting.
This was also on last weekend’s menu, but only two episodes were available. Being spoiled by the opportunity to watch a series in its entirety, this annoys me, but on the other hand, it brings back the excitement of the old days when we looked forward to the next weekly installment of a show. Agatha does not disappoint. It’s a load of fun, but it’s also creepy, and I love the diversity of the coven characters. And of course, Kathryn Hahn is out of this (under)world.
This was a new season I was really looking forward to, although, like Agatha, it’s a drop a week. I had the pleasure of never having seen it until earlier last year and binged the first two seasons together. If you haven’t seen it yet, that pleasure is now all yours. It’s one of my favorite premises. A group of people, unknown to each other, find themselves in a town they can’t leave where monsters come out at night. And the Menendez brothers have nothing on these guys. At first, they look like regular folks, albeit old-fashioned – a milk man, a grandma, some preppy kids with weird smiles – but get too close and they have razor sharp fangs and claws and will literally turn you inside out. There are talismans that keep them away, but that doesn’t stop them from doing damage or stop random idiots from going out at night. Sheriff Boyd Stevens is the leader who tries to keep things together while trying not to fall apart himself, and Harold Perrineau (Lost) is magnificent in the role.
Join me tomorrow for soap and a little Salt. Until then, stay safe; stay starting to think about Halloween shopping (if you’re so inclined to celebrate), since things sell out quickly; and stay dealing with the hard things or you will never come to terms with them.
(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)
General Hospital
Willow and Elizabeth discuss Lulu, and Willow says, the only thing that will give her a chance is a transplant. Elizabeth says, transplants are miracles and miracles happen. Willow says she hopes they find Lucky soon, and Elizabeth says, Lucky is Lulu’s last hope. Doc and Laura are at his last known location, and Jason and Anna are looking for him. Willow says, someone has to find him and bring him back to save Lulu’s life. That’s what Drew did for her.
Terry and Portia go over the schedules, and Portia says, Elizabeth is doing a great job. At least with the new hires, they’re up to strength in the lab… Wait. That can’t be right. Brad Cooper?
TJ meets Curtis at The Savoy and says he’s shocked they’re meeting here. He thought Curtis would be in his new office, getting ready for his CEO of the Year cover. Curtis says, that’s a specific thought. He likes it. TJ asks what Curtis is doing here, and Curtis says he likes to have his hand in a little bit of everything. Marshall and N’neka did a great job, but the only way he knows for sure is to be here in person. The Savoy is a special place to him. TJ says, he’s the heart and soul of the club, and Curtis says, you don’t turn your back on something you love. He asks if TJ and Molly are having a late-night dinner, but TJ says he doesn’t know where Molly is. Curtis asks if that’s a problem.
Molly goes to the Brown Dog Bar at orders a Manhattan. The bartender says, it’s not a cocktail lounge (um… a Manhattan is pretty much straight booze with a cherry in it), and Molly says, hold the vermouth, the bitters, and the cherry. He says, so bourbon. Rocks or neat? She says, one of each, and takes a picture of Irene/Adela’s sonogram out of her bag.
In Robert’s office, Felicia reads her fortune cookie: If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing extraordinarily. Robert says, that’s not a fortune. It’s a piece of passive-aggressive rubbish. His buzzer sounds, and she asks if he hasn’t kept his guest waiting long enough. Robert tells his assistant, send him in, and Felicia asks what his fortune says, He reads, old adversaries bear new love, and Jack walks in. Robert says, that’s doubtful.
Carly thanks Josslyn for filling in at Bobbie’s, and Josslyn says she’ll stay and help Carly close up. Carly says she doesn’t want Josslyn to cancel plans or force Josslyn to tolerate being around her, and Josslyn says, that’s not fair. Carly says she’s just on edge, and Josslyn says her issue isn’t with Carly. It’s just when Carly puts Sonny’s well-being over her own.
Gio watches as Brook mixes something in a bowl, and says, check her out. He thought Sasha and Olivia were the only chefs. She says she can follow instructions. She’s baking brownies for Violet’s school bake sale. He asks why she didn’t ask Sasha to make them or pick some up, and she says she wants Violet to know she’s loved and cared for. He says, she sounds like his mom.
Carly asks how she can make this better, and Josslyn says, it’s not that simple. They both need to learn to live with the way things are. Carly made her decision about Sonny. She doesn’t like it, but she accepts it. Michael helped her understand Carly’s point of view. He said, if she’s with Sonny in whatever capacity, it’s for the greater good of the family, and he told her to butt out. So she’s butting out. Carly says she appreciates it, but she doesn’t want Josslyn not to come to her. Josslyn says she just told Carly that she’s butting out and actually doing it, and Carly says she’ll try to manage her expectations and maybe Josslyn should do the same. She and Sonny have too much history for her not to be on his side when he needs help, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting back together. Josslyn says, that’s reassuring, but also terrifying.
Robert says he was having dinner with his sister-in-law, and Jack introduces himself to Felicia. She says she’s Felicia Scorpio, formerly Jones, and he says, her ex was the former head of the WSB. He was a good boss. He’s sorry Frisco left. He can’t imagine what the WSB can do for a small jurisdiction, and Felicia says, they wanted to ask about Jason and Anna’s status. Jack says he can’t help them. Jason and Anna’s mission is outside the WSB’s auspices. Felicia says, the WSB has eyes everywhere, but he says he can’t leak privileged intel that could compromise the Bureau’s security or assets. Robert says, he doesn’t trust them, and Felicia says, Anna and Jason aren’t part of the WSB. Jack says he assisted them in finding Luke’s son as a favor, and Robert says, now they can do Jack a favor. Felicia says, by not letting it slip how free he is with the Bureau’s resources. (No good deed and all that.)
Molly leaves a message for TJ and says she just wanted to hear his voice. She’ll see him at home. Dex approaches, and she says, long day? He says, not as long as hers. He heard about her mom. How is Molly doing? She says, he’s the first person to ask her that all day. She’s been better. He asks if she can use some company, and she says she could, gesturing to the seat next to her. He sits down and orders a draft.
Curtis says he’s confused, and TJ says, Molly left him a message saying she’s fine. It’s typical of one of them to reach out, but not connect. Curtis says, couples go through phases. Sometimes they’re in sync, sometimes, not so much. Do they still care about each other? TJ says he feels like they’re going through the motions, but finding reasons to be apart. They never had these problems until now. Curtis asks if Molly feels the same way, but TJ says he doesn’t know if she thinks it’s a problem. Curtis asks if they’ve talked about this, and TJ says, briefly. As much as he wants to put everything on Molly, he can’t. He’s also finding reasons to be apart. Curtis says, sometimes it’s easier to pour yourself into work. At home, there are emotional landmines waiting for you to step on them. TJ says he knows what’s expected of him at work. At home, he has no clue
Terry says, the lab supervisor hired Brad on a trial basis. There have been no problems, and he’s being closely monitored. Portia says, and Terry is just now telling her this? Why didn’t Terry warn her that Brad was back? Or better yet, why didn’t she stop it from happening?
Willow says, Drew risked his life for her, and Elizabeth says, he’s always been brave. Willow says, he’s been through a lot, and he could have turned out selfish and bitter, but instead, he’s kind and compassionate. Elizabeth says, he is something, and Willow says she thinks she’s done enough cheerleading for today. She needs to check on her patients.
Carly says, Josslyn has no reason to be terrified, but Josslyn says she’s genuinely scared. If Carly and Sonny aren’t getting back together, that can only mean one thing. Them saying they hooked up the night John Cates was murdered is about protecting Sonny, so he doesn’t get charged. Carly says she doesn’t want to get into it, and Josslyn says she’s not asking Carly to confirm it. She doesn’t know why Carly is risking her future for a man who doesn’t have the track record for the undying loyalty he asks for. She was willing to go to jail for Jason. Does she think Sonny would do the same?
Jack says, Anna and Jason made contact with the person holding Lucky prisoner, but that’s all the information he can give them. The Bureau plans to be in Port Charles for the long haul, and it’s in all their interests to get along. Robert says, they’re the picture of cooperation, and Felicia says she has another question. Why help Anna and Jason? Jack says he did it to help Luke’s son, but Robert says, he didn’t know Luke. Jack says he didn’t, but the Bureau owes Luke a debt. Felicia asks, what’s in it for him? and he says, their goodwill is plenty, and leaves.
TJ tells Curtis that he used to get home and let go. Now his tension goes up on the drive home. It feels like everything has changed even though nothing did between them. Curtis says, it happened to them, not between them. When he was learning to walk again, Portia wanted to help, but instead of being grateful or letting her, he pushed her away. TJ says, it sounds counterintuitive, and Curtis says, it was about control. He thought he was the only one who understood what he was going through, so he isolated and didn’t reach out to anyone. No one understood and it was his problem to solve. He had no control over when he was shot, so he had to have control somehow, some way. TJ asks if it helped, and Curtis says, not for his recovery, rehabilitation, or relationships. Other than that, he killed it. TJ laughs, and Curtis says, nothing can compare to losing a child. TJ says he gets what Curtis is saying.
Dex asks how Molly is doing, and she says, today was hard and crazy in its own way, but it’s been that way for weeks. Maybe it’s the new normal… Maybe she was selfish to want a child. He asks, how? and she says, when they decided they wanted a baby and found out she couldn’t, they tried surrogacy. Then when that didn’t work… He says, Kristina, and she says, maybe the universe is telling her something. She didn’t get the message from infertility and a miscarriage, so the universe literally threw her baby and her sister out a window. She can’t help thinking how excited she was over the things she was going to do with the baby. The first words, the first steps, the first birthday, going to the zoo… the first day of school pictures… She starts to cry and Dex says he’s sorry.
Terry says, the lab has been short-staffed, and Brad has years of experience. And he’s good at what he does. Portia says, he’s good at tampering with test results. They can’t allow Brad access to confidential information. Terry says, he’s had it for the last month. He’s being closely supervised, and he’s been incredibly precise and productive. Portia says, thankfully, he’s a trial employee. She’s going to keep her eye on him and the minute he steps out of line, which he will, he’s gone. She slams out.
Carly says, Donna and Avery not having Sonny in their lives would be decimating and the grandchildren. Josslyn tells her that Michael said the same thing. No matter how hard she tries to find fault in it, it’s noble in a twisted, gothic way. Carly says she could do worse, but it’s not forever, and Josslyn says, if the past is any indication, it’s going to be harder for Carly to extricate herself from Sonny than she thinks. Jack walks in.
Josslyn says, they’re closed, but Carly says, it’s okay. He’s a friend of hers. She introduces Jack to Josslyn, who says, his name seems oddly familiar. He says, probably from the alleged kidnapping in this very establishment. It was a complete misunderstanding. Josslyn says, he was arrested, and Carly repeats, it was a misunderstanding. Jack is with the WSB and is new head of the field office in Port Charles. Josslyn says, the fryer is off, but they have coffee, and Carly tells her to have fun with her friends. Josslyn leaves, and Carly says, Josslyn is tough on the men in her life. Jack says, he thought there would be a stronger reaction, and she says, from one to Sonny, she thinks Jack is a four, but there’s plenty of room to move up. She asks if she can get him some coffee, but he says he didn’t come in for refreshments. He came here about her friend Jason.
At the Surf Lodge, Portia tells Trina that she has good news. She got Heather’s lab results that her legal team requested. The cobalt levels are almost exactly the same as before her surgery. They’re still high. Trina asks how that’s possible with the replaced hip, and Portia says, apparently, that’s not the problem. Trina asks how Heather could have such a toxic level, and Portia says, ingesting it, inhaling it, or contact with the skin. Trina asks if she thinks Heather is eating and wearing cobalt, but Portia says, it’s in food like fish, nuts, and vegetables. Trina wonders if there are pescatarians going on killing sprees, and Portia says, whatever the reason, Heather is never getting out of Pentenville.
Elizabeth tells Terry that she spoke to her brother Stephen, and he’s been released from prison. Terry says she’s glad. She knew Elizabeth was worried. Elizabeth says, he did his time and settled in Sedona, and Terry asks what he’s going to do for work, but Elizabeth says she doesn’t know. Something in the medical field. Terry says, he’s a good doctor. Does Elizabeth think he’ll visit her? Elizabeth says she doubts it. He doesn’t want anything to do with Heather and in Port Charles, he’d be in her orbit. Terry says, it’s always something with Heather. Now they have to deal with the ramifications of her cobalt poisoning. Elizabeth says, she still deserves the best possible medical care, and Terry says, of course (🍷), but does Elizabeth think she deserves a second chance?
Gio says his mother always made Italian cookies for him. She was born in Italy. It was in her blood. Brook wonders how she managed to make time to bake, and Gio tells her that she said she wanted to since he was her favorite son, and she loved him the most. Brook says, he was an only child, and he says, that doesn’t make it any less true. Brook says, Camilla made the best cookies. Even Gloria’s weren’t as good. But if he repeats that, she’ll deny it and hurt him. He says he’ll take it to the grave. He got in a fight because of a classmate insulting the Italian cookies. Brook asks what his mom said, but he says he didn’t tell her. Of course (🍷) it got out and he spilled his guts. Then she started making American chocolate chip cookies for him to take to school, but she still made the Italian ones for him.
Molly says she’s sorry, but Dex says, no worries. How is her mom? Molly says, she’s convinced everything will work out, and he asks what she thinks. She says she thinks the truth will come out when it’s pried out of its hiding place, and he says, in court? She says, it would be great if it came in time before that, and he says, testifying makes him nervous. She says, that’s the one place she’s not nervous. You know what’s going to happen in court. He asks if she doesn’t get caught up in Perry Mason gotchas, but she says, that doesn’t happen in real life. There are procedures in place that limit possible outcomes. He says, it’s her happy place, and she says she guesses so. But she’s not in court right now and she’s not being the partner, sister, daughter, or mother that she should be. Dex says, no one thinks that, and if they do, point them to the exit, and she says, you can’t do that with family. No one’s come out and said it, but she can tell by the way they look at her, disappointed and angry. She never felt so out of control. She feels like everything is spinning except when she’s in court. Then she’s the person she wants to be.
Felicia says, that man is slick, and Robert says, too slick. She says she hopes they can trust him, but he says, they can’t. She asks if he thinks he’d sell out Anna and Jason, and he says, it would create questions and a lot of unwanted attention. She says, at least it will keep him honest. Maybe going after Lucky is a good fit for the Bureau or he’s trying to curry favor with Laura, Anna, or Robert. Robert says, or maybe someone else… Carly.
Carly puts up the closed sign, and Carly says she heard Jack helped Jason. Why? He says, Robert just summoned him to his office to question him about that. He told Robert that Jason and Anna made initial contact with Sidwell, but he heard nothing beyond that. He snuck Sidwell’s dossier to Anna, so she knew where to start. Carly says, he’s slipping further down that slippery slope. The WSB is going to frown on it. She knows he’s doing this as a favor to her. He says he’ll put it on her tab or use it to boost his ratings on Josslyn’s Sonny scale. He asks how things are going with Carly and Sonny, and Carly says she just had that talk with Josslyn and doesn’t want to get into it. He says, she’ll get no judgement from him. He tries not to dwell on exes. He prefers to live in the here and now. She says she likes it, but people have long memories in this town. He should come up with another excuse for the zip ties other than a misunderstanding. He says, kinky? And she says, it would be a tough sell. He says, things and people aren’t always what they seem, and she says, that, she’ll buy. Now how did he manage to go from Pentenville to the local WSB office?
Gio says, the parent things Brook and Chase are doing for Violet are cool, and she says, they’re trying. They want her to feel loved and that they’re here for her. He says he’s not a parent, but he had a great one. That’s how she made him feel. She says she knows he never met his dad, but he was still a lucky kid, and he says he got his practice hours in. His mom helped him with his scales. He was bad at counting, and she was his metronome. She was so patient and amazing. Like how they are with Violet. Their kids will be so lucky when they have them. She says, they’re working on it.
Jack tells Carly that his career trajectory is a long story. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks about his promotion. Does it bother her? She says, not at all. Maybe one day she’ll share her past with him. He says, there’s nothing she could say that would change their friendship, and she says, don’t be so sure. He says, remember what he told her during her first visit in Pentenville? A straight answer is rare in his world. He takes very little from their first encounter at face value. It was mostly set up, but he enjoyed her company. There’s nothing false about that. She asks, what about this? Is any of this set up? He says he doesn’t have an agenda. There’s nothing he wants. She says, nothing? and he says, nothing to do with Bureau business. He’d love a burger though.
TJ says, he and Molly both lost Irene, and Curtis says, she’s isolating herself in her work. TJ says, her job is giving her something she’s not getting from him, and Curtis wonders why she’s not talking to him. TJ says, maybe she doesn’t know how. They were always supportive of each other. They were a team. If they can’t share this, what can they share? Curtis says, nothing can prepare you to navigate the loss of a child, and TJ says he’s starting to think this is out of his control. Curtis says, he and Molly have so much history, but TJ says he’s not sure it’s enough to guarantee their future.
Elizabeth says she’s grateful for Franco’s second chance, but isn’t sure if Heather deserves one, and Terry asks, what about Brad? Elizabeth says, he’s already working at the hospital, and Terry says she gave him a recommendation. Elizabeth says, maybe Terry gave him a second chance because she saw something in him that deserved one. Terry says, her assessment was genuine. Who knows? Maybe he’ll believe she gave him enough of a chance to make a difference.
Portia says she thought Trina would be happy, and Trina says, it feels too good to be true. Portia says, the tests say what they say. What’s wrong? Trina says, ever since she found out Heather was moving on having her case reexamined, she’s felt like she was on thin ice, waiting for it to crack and the water to pull her under. She thought Heather would be free. Portia says she doesn’t have to worry about that anymore, and Trina say she didn’t realize how it was affecting her. Now, knowing Heather is never getting out, she feels free. She knows it sounds cliché, but she feels like a weight has been lifted. Portia says she’s so glad things are finally turning out the way they’re supposed to.
Portia flashes back to closing the blinds and opening a laptop. She changes Heather’s test results for cobalt from 1.1 to 300 and closes the laptop. At the Surf Lodge, she says, Trina is finally getting the peace she deserves. She’s happy for her. Trina says she is too, and Portia tells her to order whatever she wants. They’re celebrating.
Tomorrow, Dante says someone is about to do something they shouldn’t; TJ asks Molly where she was last night; and Carly asks what Jack’s not telling her.
Below Deck Mediterranean
We take a long trip down Memory Lane, since apparently, they don’t have enough new stuff to fill the hour.
Aesha says she wants a word with Ellie. She feels like Ellie’s been overstepping as second stew. Ellie acts surprised, and Aesha says when she’s asked the girls to do something, Ellie intervenes and asks them to do something else. We flash back to that, and Aesha says, Ellie’s job as second stew is to delegate when she’s not around. If she’s on the floor, Ellie isn’t to delegate. Ellie says she never meant it like that, and in Aesha’s interview, she says, Ellie is gaslighting her, acting like she’s so unaware. In Ellie’s interview, she says, at this point, everything she does is wrong. How is Aesha supposed to write a reference if she doesn’t see Ellie’s work?
The drag queens are ready to perform, and in Iain’s interview, he says he worked as a bartender in a gay club. When they asked, who wants to be a drag queen? his friends all pointed at him. The guests are brought upstairs for the show, led by The Duchess of Greece. Jono bartends, and the guests want shots. Aesha asks Ellie if lemon drops will take long, and Ellie says she wasn’t told about lemon drops. Aesha tells her not to get defensive. She was just asking how long. In Jono’s interview, he says, these queer guests are special for him. He’s pacified himself a bit and wishes that he’d been that involved every charter. In Gael’s interview, she says, it’s starting to hit her that she and Nathan are leaving together. It freaks her out and she’s wondering if she made the right choice. She’s going to have to sh*t in front of him. Um… no. They have doors on bathrooms so you don’t have to do that. She says she’s had people she thought loved her who have done horrible things to her. At the bar, Joe frees his nipple, and Carrie approves.
Aesha tells Gael that she’s organizing Captain Sandy’s proposal to Leah, and she’d like Gael, Joe, and Carrie to help set up. Joe is going to drive the tender and Ellie will stay her to supervise. Gael and Aesha jump up and down. The drag queens leave, and one of the guests asks who Carrie would sleep with. She says, probably Joe, and he tells her, get d*ck tonight. In Ellie’s interview, she says, it’s like a snowball that’s getting bigger. Carrie is rubbing Joe in her face after taking over her job. She’s acting like Regina George. Thank God it’s just one more day. She’s going to blow a gasket.
In Bri’s interview, she says, it’s the last day. She’s excited and relieved. She’s almost made it through a season, and that’s a first for her. Captain Sandy says, weather is coming, so they’re proceeding to the marina. In her interview, Bri says she’s reflecting on the sh*t that’s gone down with her and Joe, and it’s a clusterf***, but short-term love is better than no love at all. The captain calls Leah, and says she’ll text the location of where they’re docking. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says, the charter was a great distraction, but she’s getting more nervous. Leah thinks they’re going on a European vacation and has no clue. Leah says she’s never going to ask her to get married all the time. In Joe’s interview, he says he’s smitten with Carrie. This could be a problem, but it’s the last time. He’s going to the wild side. In Iain’s interview, he says, it’s the last docking and one last time for big deck energy. Breakfast is served, and the captain blows the horn when she sees Leah. In her interview, she says, it’s the biggest day of her life, and Aesha yells hi to Leah. She tells the guests that Leah is Sandy’s partner. The captain runs down and she and Leah hug and kiss. Aesha says, it makes her want to cry, and Captain Sandy tells Leah that she has to finish, but she’ll text when she’s done. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says, that wasn’t very professional of her. The struggle is real. Leah believes they’re going on a date, but she has to complete her job before she asks Leah to marry her. She was ready to do it on the dock.
Ellie says she’s so over this sh*t, and the captain radios the crew to meet on the dock a final time. Primary Brad says, everything was fabulous, and there are lots of hugs. He says, so much about this trip was memorable, but the crew was the most memorable. Money doesn’t solve everything, but hopefully it shows their appreciation. The guests leave and the crew has a group hug and a group, yay! In Carrie’s interview, she says, it’s their night out. She’s curious, but Joe is probably going to ruin what friendship her and Ellie have.
It’s the final tip meeting, and Captain Sandy says she’s not going to cry. Jono did it. He persevered and he was always calm. She never heard him yell once at Aesha. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says she was nervous about Jono, but not finding a chef forced her to keep him. She does see a future for him with more training. He pulled it off and she’s happy for him and wishes him success. She says, having Aesha back, she knew she’d never have to worry. Aesha is great with the guests. She tells Iain that he’s a hard worker and she was pleased. In her interview, she says, Iain came on the boat with a skill set, but he had to learn to let go of control and learn the art of communication. When he did, it started to flow. She says, everyone brought the energy. She’s proposing to Leah today and she’s excited and nervous. She’s proposing around sunset, and Aesha has chosen her team to set up, but she wants them all there. Their final tip is $20K, and the totals for the season are $190,500 or $16,230 each. I’m not sure if I got those totals exactly right since I was going fast, but close enough. She says, Ellie is in charge while Aesha is gone, and the crew will be brought to the proper location. In Ellie’s interview, she says she’s feeling down. She wasn’t picked to participate, and it would have been an honor. All the work she’s done all season was for nothing. In Aesha’s interview, she says, they’re literally racing against the sun, but they all work fast, and she can rely on them to do the job and do it quickly. Ellie should run the boat when she’s not on the boat.
Event planners meet Aesha, Gael, and Joe near the beach. Joe says he’s nervous for Captain Sandy, and in the captain’s interview, she says her stomach hasn’t stopped moving. This is really happening, and she hopes she doesn’t mess it up. Leah arrives and they get in a taxi. Captain Sandy says, they’re going on a boat ride. In another taxi, Ellie says she’s going to flip out if they did the décor without her. She got praised for it, but when Carrie came, it was, here, go do dishes. In Nathan’s interview, he says, Ellie is being bitter and spiteful. Not everything is about her. Ellie says, Carrie came to help out, but replaced her, and Jono says, maybe she just has the right energy. Bri says, Ellie’s feelings are valid, and in her interview, she says she understands why Ellie is upset, but at the same time, get over it. The chief stew can take who she wants. Aesha shows everybody where to stand so they can watch, but says, they have to remain hidden. The captain and Leah get in the tender, and Joe starts it up, but runs into a line that wraps around the rudder. In his interview, he wonders if he just ruined the captain’s day. It’s one hour until sunset, and Captain Sandy says, it’s inoperable, but it’s not Joe’s fault. Lines are everywhere. In her interview, the captain says she’s stressed. The sun is setting in 30 minutes. They’ve got to get the line off or she’ll be proposing on the dock.
The captain feels badly for Joe, since he’s dressed and clean. She texts Aesha that they’re running behind. It’s 15 minutes to sunset, and Joe gets the line free. In his interview, he say he hopes he’s got this. At 11 minutes to sunset, they get moving. Aesha says, they got off the dock, and she, Gael, and Carrie meet them. Violins are playing on the beach, and in the captain’s interview, she says, they’re playing a wedding song. It was not in the plan, but it’s par for the course at this point. Sometimes you picture something in your mind, and it doesn’t quite work out like that, but that’s okay. Leah sips champagne, and Captain Sandy says she loves her… The boat ride was fun. She asks if Leah remembers the list she wrote about her ideal person, and Leah says, music, love God, love family… Captain Sandy says, love animals, and Leah says, and 90% good looking. Kind. The captain says, on November 17th, 2018, she felt for the first time her heart beat as one with Leah. She loves Leah so much. She gets down on one knee and asks if Leah will marry her. Leah says, yes, and the captain puts the ring on her – simple, elegant, and appropriately large. They hug and the crew pops up and cheers. The captain says, Leah thought she’d never do it, and in her interview, she says, it’s the best feeling on the planet. Aesha tells the crew, it’s time now, and they leave.
Captain Sandy asks if Leah is happy, and Leah says she is. The captain says she is too, and in Aesha’s interview, she says, she can feel how in love they are. Scott, take notes. Nathan tells Aesha that Ellie feels her hard work has gone unnoticed and is talking sh*t about her. In her interview, Aesha says, Ellie feels like she’s being treated poorly, but if she wants to be chief stew, she’s got a lot of growing to do. Joe tries to climb all over Carrie in the taxi, and in Bri’s interview, she says, seeing Joe flirting with Carrie brings back bad memories. We flash back to him doing the same thing with Ellie, and Bri says, them flirting isn’t a problem. The problem is them doing it in front of her after she brought it up multiple times. We flash back to that, and she says, get her out of this van. They arrive at a club, and Bri tells Jono that she wants to get a table, get a drink, and get the f*** out of here.
Bri says she’s generally annoyed, and in Joe’s interview, he says he understands Bri is upset, but he’s having a great time. 😐 They just finished the season and he’s sending it tonight. (Sending it? What?) The crew drinks and dances, and Ellie says she loves this place. In Iain’s interview, he says, tonight he’s letting his hair down. Everyone is on the same wavelength. He’s hot and bothered and busting his moves, releasing everything from the season. Joe tells Carrie to follow his lead, and she suggests they get out of here. Nathan tells Gael that he can give her honesty and transparency, and she says she loves him. He says he loves her too, and in his interview, he says, it’s not his M.O. to throw around the love word, but if you’re willing to love someone, you’re willing to take the risk and look like an idiot. Joe tells Bri, sorry, and she tells him, shut up. He says he respects her, but she says he doesn’t show it. He puts it in her face every time when she asked him not to. Jono says he’s exhausted, and Aesha thinks they should go. Joe tells Carrie that he wants to f*** her so bad, and Bri says she’s had it with Joe.
Back at the boat, Aesha asks Gael to help her get to bed, and Jono says he doesn’t want to talk to anybody. Joe says he’s so f***ed, and Carrie stumbles around. Joe careens around boat until he gets to his cabin. Carrie follows, and he says he wants to die alone. She says, he needs help. Nathan says he’s not going to his cabin. Too much funky business going on. Joe says he’s going to shower, and Carrie says, it’s a shame he got sh*tfaced. He says he’s so sorry, and she says, her too. In Carrie’s interview, she says, Joe sure knows how to woo a lady, and she tells him, goodnight. She goes back to her own cabin.
In the morning, Gael wakes everyone up by banging at their cabin doors. Joe says he hates his life, and Nathan tells him not to forget his dildo. Joe asks, which one? In Jono’s interview, he says he’s proud of himself, but knows he has more to learn. We flash back to his mistakes, and he says he wants to continue growing. There’s always a solution to bounce back and he figured it out. We flash back to his improved charters, and he says, if he has the opportunity to go to culinary school, he wouldn’t refuse. He’s ready to bring the twerk into the work.
It’s time for goodbyes, and Bri thanks the captain for giving her so many chances. Captain Sandy says, Bri is the person most improved. She found out what works for her. Keep using that. In Bri’s interview, she says, when she arrived, she was lacking confidence, but now she has a sense of pride. It’s a feeling she knows she can take to the next job. She’s a working girl now. Jono tells the captain that he appreciated her feedback. He could tell she wanted him to be a success. The captain tells Iain that it was an absolute pleasure, and he says he’s glad she put the pressure on. She tells Gael that she’s a hard worker and she appreciates that. In Nathan’s interview, he says he knows he made a lifelong friend, when Joe pops in and asks why Nathan didn’t say that to his face. He feels the same way. The captain tells Joe, safe travels, and in Joe’s interview, he says he’s 27, but he’s not slowing down. He’s still like he was when he was 19. I’m not so sure that’s something to brag about. Nathan tells Captain Sandy that she’s the best captain, and she says she loved having him on deck. She trusted him on the bow, and she’d have him back. He says, she boosted his confidence, and in his interview, he says, this season, it wasn’t a bad decision for him to take a more responsible role and move forward in his career. And to have a woman who’s willing to accept his feet? She’s a keeper for sure. The captain says, Nathan telling her that she upped his confidence was sweet.
Aesha says she knows she and Ellie had their differences, but Ellie is a very hard worker and should be proud. In Ellie’s interview, she says she got one adjective – hard worker. It feels like when your vibrator dies halfway and you’re just laying there saying, what? Aesha says, Gael was her gift of the season, and Gael goes to the bridge. She thanks Captain Sandy, and the captain recommends Gael continue, since she’d make a great captain. In Gael’s interview, she says she wanted to further her career, and she feels like she’s done that and more, both in work and life. If she was the Gael who just stepped on the boat, watching the Gael stepping off with Nathan, she’d say, what the hell have you done? But, girl, you’ve got this. Nathan tells her that he can’t wait. Aesha looks at Captain Sandy’s ring finger, but the captain says, Leah is wearing it. Having Aesha come back was a delight. She’s always kind and the captain loves her because of that. They hug, and in Aesha’s interview, she says she was so excited to come back and prove to herself as chief stew to Captain Sandy. She came, she saw and conquered with the Greek gods. I’m aMed motherf***ing chief stew, bitch. Captain Sandy calls Leah and says, all the crew is gone and she’s so excited to actually see Leah when she wakes up. Leah says, and do life together. They exchange I love yous.
8 months later – Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Chef Dave White shows Leah and Captain Sandy the cake, and we finally see Norma (!) after all these seasons. Captain Sandy takes the mic and says, on November 17th, 2018, she hugged Leah for the first time and knew it was her. Leah says, whether they have one day or a hundred years, she’s so grateful to have experienced the love she never thought she would. They exchange vows, and the officiant says, from this moment forward, they never have to be alone. She’s honored to pronounce them wives. They kiss and everyone cheers. In the captain’s interview, she says, every charter season teaches her something different. With this one, she’s become convinced that in yachting and in life, it’s about the things you’re passionate about and celebrating them. We see a brief snippet of the wedding toasts, and in her interview, Captain Sandy says, whether she’s on land or on a boat, she’s going to spend the rest of her life loving Leah. Aww!
Join me tomorrow for soap and what to watch (or not). Until then, stay safe, stay preparing for winter with autumn cleaning, and stay remembering that things and people aren’t always what they seem.
(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)
General Hospital
Ava hears someone come into the gallery and says she’s sorry. They’re closed. She thought she locked the door. Sonny says, she didn’t. He heard from family court, but the date of the hearing isn’t going to work for him. He’s going to have Diane postpone it. She asks if he’s too busy keeping his family out of jail, and he says he doesn’t want to fight. She says if he doesn’t want to fight, give her back her daughter.
Sasha sees Tracy outside the boathouse, and says she was about to clean up. Tracy says, take her time. Unless she prefers Tracy clean up her mess for her.
Cody goes to Lulu’s room and Dante asks what brings him by. Cody says he thought it was time he met Lulu, and Dante says, he has good timing. He doesn’t know how much longer they have to do that.
At the hospital, Danny tells Elizabeth that he’s looking for Dante, and she says, he’s in with Lulu. She’ll let his dad know he’s here. He says his dad just left for Africa to find Lucky.
Mac asks when Alexis’s lawyer is getting here, and she says she’ll let him know when she has one. He says, the charges are serious, the murder of an FBI agent, and she says she knows. She just needs her one phone call. He says he thinks she needs a helluva lot more than that, and gives Alexis her phone.
Kristina goes to Molly’s office and asks if Molly turned her in for John’s murder. Molly says, if Kristina means, did she tell the PCPD that Kristina was unaccounted for the night of the murder, she did.
Dante tells Cody that the first night he and Lulu met, her brothers beat him up. Lulu was unlike any woman he’d ever met. Fiery, spontaneous, independent, super smart, strong, and passionate. Cody says, but it didn’t work out, and Dante says, it was his fault. What he has with Sam, he wouldn’t change for anything, but he can’t help but think about when he and Lulu fell in love.
Kristina says she can’t believe Molly would do this. Wait. She can. Molly says she’s the ADA and had to tell the police what she knew, but Kristina says, Molly saw an opportunity to hurt her, and Molly says, the night of Cates’s murder, Kristina was nowhere to be found. Their mom and Sam even called her. Kristina says, they must have been desperate. Molly can’t even acknowledge that she’s in pain too. Molly says, her and TJ’s pain isn’t even on Kristina’s radar. When is she going to realize that her actions have consequences? It’s not about her; it’s about mom. She’s the number one suspect. She has no alibi, was heard threatening John, and was seen disposing of a gun that’s somehow connected to Kristina. Kristina asks if Alexis said that, and Molly says, of course (🍷) not, but she bets Alexis is covering for her. Alexis would throw herself in front of a train to protect Kristina and Kristina would still find a way to say, poor me.
Temp Sam comes into the interrogation room and asks how this happened. Mac says he’ll be outside. The clock is ticking. Sam asks why they’re looking at Alexis when it’s obvious who did it, and Alexis says, Ric and Elizabeth saw her dispose of a gun, but they wouldn’t have brought her in if there wasn’t some new evidence. Sam says, she was nowhere near the crime scene, and Alexis says she knows, but she needs to find out what other evidence they have, and fast. Sam asks, how? and Alexis says she’ll agree to be interviewed.
Sonny tells Ava not to make it more difficult. There’s no way in hell he’s giving Avery up. She says, no postponement. She wants her daughter back with her where she belongs. He says, Scotty disappeared and she’s without representation. Think of it as a gift. She has more time to find another hack lawyer. Good luck finding someone who’s willing to go up against Diane. Ric walks in and says, she has. He’s not afraid of Diane.
Tracy asks what possessed Sasha to hold a social event on Quartermaine property, and Sasha says, she’s right. It was presumptuous and she overstepped. It won’t happen again. She apologizes. Tracy says, she hit all the right notes, but she hopes Sasha means it, and Sasha says, next time, she’ll ask permission. Tracy says, don’t bother. The answer will be no. She expects the employees to maintain proper professional decorum. Sasha asks if she means they should stay in their place, and Tracy says, boundaries exist. Sasha says, if Cody wanted to throw a party, would Tracy stop him?
Danny says his dad just left for Somalia, and Elizabeth asks how he knows. He says his dad texted that he wouldn’t be able to see him for a while. He’s saving lives. She asks if Jason knows where Lucky is. Has he reached out to Doc and Laura? He tells her that Jason just said he was on his way, and she asks if his mom knows. He says he’s not sure, and she asks if Sam knows he’s here. He says, probably not, and she says, Dante is going to be a minute. She suggests they hang out in the breakroom. She’ll text his mom and fill her in.
Sonny says he heard Ric was town, and Ava says she appreciates a family reunion as much as the next girl, but can they get back to the matter at hand? Sonny says, custody battles aren’t Ric’s thing, but Ric says he’s versatile and representing Ava in another matter. Sonny’s most recent discarded ex introduced them. Sonny says, the custody battle has nothing to do with the other matter in court, and Ava says she recanted her story about Kristina attacking her. She thinks it will play a pivotal role in the custody case, and Ric says, absolutely. When the court hears what a hot mess Kristina is, it won’t be hard to prove Sonny is an unfit parent. Exhibit A, the disastrous life of Kristina Corinthos-Davis. (Since she’s been an adult for some time, I don’t think that’s how this works. Parents can’t control anything once the child moves out. Not to mention, she did nothing wrong.)
Kristina says, their mom wouldn’t have had to protect her if Molly hadn’t gone to the police because she hates her and wants to blame her. Molly says, Kristina’s actions are to blame, and Kristina says, Molly practically pointed the police in her direction. Her own sister. She should get off her high horse, since this is a new low. Molly says, Kristina was planning on stealing her baby after assuring her that she could be trusted and wanted to help, and Kristina says she did, but everything changed when the baby was growing inside her. She wasn’t planning on it. It just happened. They were more connected than she ever intended. When TJ and Molly started fighting, she got worried for the baby. She’ll never get over losing her and thinks about her every second. She’s also dealing with trying to heal herself from falling out a window, which she hasn’t even begun to process. So she did lean on their mother. Alexis is her mother too, and if she hadn’t, she doesn’t know how she could have made it. She never meant to put Alexis in harm’s way and would do anything to protect her. Kristina says, then confess, but Kristina says she can’t confess to a crime she didn’t commit.
Sam asks why Alexis has no representation. Where’s Diane? Alexis says, Diane is representing Sonny, so she can’t represent her. Sam says, she’s not thinking of representing herself. There are a million good lawyers. Alexis says, they’re not here and she’s got this. It’s just an initial interview and she knows what she’s doing. She knows how to avoid the pitfalls and get information without incriminating herself. Sam’s phone dings, and she says, it’s Elizabeth. Danny is at GH. He’s not hurt. It’s about Jason. Alexis says, that’s important, but Sam says she’s not leaving. Alexis says she told Sam that she’s got this. Go look after her kid. If something happens – and it won’t – she promises to call. Go take care of her son. Sam leaves.
Looking at his phone, Danny says, Somalia is dangerous, and Elizabeth tells him to stop reading that stuff. He says he’s not worried. His dad can handle danger. Sam comes in and asks what Danny is doing here. Danny says he came to tell Dante that Jason is going to Africa to save Lulu’s life. Sam says, that’s great news, and he says his dad texted him from the plane. Sam says, so he’s already gone, and Elizabeth asks Danny to hop over to Bobbie’s and pick up BLTs for him and Dante. Her treat. Sam says she’s got it, and gives Danny some money. He leaves and Elizabeth says, that’s a lot to take in. Is she okay? Sam says, Jason was home long enough for her son to fall in love with him again, and now he’s going where he could get himself killed. She’s not okay with that.
Kristina says she’s telling the truth, and Molly asks what Alexis was doing with a gun. Molly’s phone rings, and Dex says he probably shouldn’t be calling, but her mom is here. She’s been arrested for John Cates’s murder. She’s talking to a detective and has no lawyer. Molly thanks him and says she’ll be right there. She tells Kristina that she’s got to go. For the last time, did she murder John Cates? If she did, she has to confess. Mom just got arrested for his murder.
Sonny asks Ric, what kind of father turns his daughter’s mother into the police? Ric told them that he saw Alexis throw a gun off the bridge. Ric says he was doing his civic duty, but Sonny says, he’s a vindictive son of a bitch. Alexis is trying to keep her family together and he picked the right time to screw her over. Ric says, she’s trying to protect her and Sonny’s daughter and leaving his to deal with her pain and grief on her own, but Sonny says, Alexis loves all of her daughters, and Molly has TJ and Sam. Rick says, but not her mother, and Sonny says, Ric is probably feeling guilty because he’s not in Molly’s life. Whose fault is that? Ava says, they’re getting off topic. Sonny came to discuss the hearing. Sonny says, she chose this guy? A stand-up lawyer who just turned his daughter’s mother into the police to get arrested for something she didn’t do.
Alexis tells Mac that she was unable to secure representation, so she’ll answer questions without a lawyer. He asks if she’s sure, and she says she’s positive. He says he can’t do the interview because of their personal relationship, and Detective Bennet walks in. Mac leaves and Bennet sits down. He says, before they begin, he’s confirming her refusal of counsel, but she says she’s not refusing. She’s representing herself. He wonders if he should remind her of the risks, and she says, for the record, she’s innocent. He says, she can be charged for lying my omission or giving false statements, and she says she’s aware. He says she was seen dropping a firearm into the river. How did the weapon come into her possession?
Sasha comes out of the boathouse and says, Tracy is still here. Tracy says she’s been giving some thought to Sasha’s insinuation masquerading as a question. Cody throwing a party is a non-issue. Cody knows it’s inappropriate, and if Sasha is implying favoritism… Sasha says she definitely is and why not? Cody is a wonderful guy who has become Tracy’s friend. Tracy asks, says who? and Sasha says, anyone with eyes. There’s nothing wrong with it, but Cody has the family now that he’s never had and wants to spend more time with them. That’s why she threw the brunch, to help them make up for lost time. Tracy says, if she wants to help Cody revel in familial bliss, do it someplace else, and Sasha says she respects Tracy’s family and her job. She enjoys working here. Tracy says, it seems like a lark while she’s waiting for something better, but Sasha says she’s not. Tracy asks, why not? She respects Sasha’s talent and skill in the kitchen. Her quiche is perfect, and her pastry is divine, but does she care? Sasha says she does. She loves making food that people enjoy, and she likes talking to Cody. Tracy says, maybe she needs to take her work more seriously. She’s smart and capable, and at some point, she’s going to want more out of life than making Cody happy.
Dante tells Cody that when he and Lulu met, it was like lightning in a bottle. But time goes by, and you take things for granted. When he did his last mission for the WSB, something inside her broke. Tracy said he was the reason Lulu lost her spark. Cody suggests he take what Tracy says with a grain of salt or ignore it, but Dante says he thinks she’s right. He guesses he never should have left. Cody says, he can’t look back and play what if. He’s not going to come up with answers and he’ll just drive himself crazy. Dante says he wouldn’t change anything, but he’d give anything to see that feisty, fiery woman sitting on the dock waiting for the next adventure.
Elizabeth tells Sam, if it’s any consolation, Jason didn’t notify her either. Lucky has fallen so far off the grid, if anyone can find him and bring him home safe, it would be Jason. Sam says she wants him to find Lucky, but at the same time, she wishes he’d make his son a priority. Elizabeth says she gets it. She’s been there. She resented Lucky for similar reasons, but going in, she knew this was how he’d always been. Sam says she knew who Jason was and realized her kids needed one parent they could count on. With Dante, they have a stable home and so does she, but Danny is going to pay the price with Jason in it. Elizabeth says, he could step up. He did with Jake. Sam says, from a distance, and Elizabeth says she still credits him for trying. Sam says, if Lucky comes home, does she think he’ll be dad of the year?
Ric says, the only reason Alexis was put in the line of fire is because of Sonny’s daughter who Alexis is protecting. They’ve both done it for so long, cleaned up every mess of Kristina’s. Sonny says he gets it. One brother got all the love, and the other one was out in the cold. Ric is still whining about their mother giving him up and keeping Sonny. Does he really want to have a discussion about who had the worst childhood?
Alexis says she found the gun on her property. She has no idea how it got there. It was near the driveway by the front gate. She was walking and saw it. He asks how she was able to see it at night, and she says, it wasn’t that late. It was after dinner. Would he like to know what she ate? He says he probably shouldn’t. He’s hungry. She says, the moon was out, and she could see a metallic gleam in the grass, so she investigated. He asks how she thinks it got there, but she says, that would be speculation. He asks why she didn’t call the police, and she says she wanted it off the property because she has grandchildren who visit. In hindsight, it was stupid, and she regrets it, and if disposing of the gun was illegal, she’ll deal with the consequences. But if that’s all the evidence they have, she’s going to ask that the charges be dropped immediately. He says, she’d be correct, but they’re not finished. They’re just getting started.
Molly says, the only thing that will save their mom is a full confession, so unless Kristina is prepared to do that, she’ll only make things worse. Kristina says she didn’t kill John Cates. Molly has to believe her. Molly says, just like she wasn’t going to steal their baby? She doesn’t know if Kristina killed him and maybe their mom doesn’t either, but she must think Kristina did and this is her desperate attempt to shield her. Now she could wind up in prison. Do her a favor and don’t help. She leaves, and Kristina gets on her phone. She texts Dante: Where are you?
Sam asks if Elizabeth is ready for everything that comes with it if Lucky comes home, and Elizabeth says she wants Lulu to live and wants Lucky safe. She hasn’t thought about it beyond that. Danny listens from outside the door, and Sam says, when Jason came back, she thought it was going to be the same. All she wants is for her sons to be happy, but what if this time Jason’s risks catch up with him? It’s her worst nightmare and will break her heart if Danny loses his father. Danny comes in and asks if she thinks his dad is going to die.
Ava suggests Ric and Sonny keep the sibling rivalry out of it. It’s ancient history. Ric says he doesn’t care about the past. The present is problem enough, so spare him Sonny’s amateur psychology. Sonny says, Ric can spare him the sob story and leave his daughter out of it. Stop ruining her mom’s life. Ric says, Kristina is doing it, because she won’t face the consequences, and Sonny says, from what? Ric’s client pushing her out a window? Ava says she did not push Kristina. It was an accident, and she recanted her story about Kristina attacking her. Sonny says, she’s a liar and she’s reckless. Great traits for a mother. Ric says, they’ll be in touch about the postponement, and Sonny says, Ric’s got to fix the mess he made for Alexis. Ric says, then tell the police what really happened, and Sonny says he can’t wait for Diane to deal with Ric. Ric says, he’ll see Sonny in court, and Sonny tells Ava that he doesn’t know why she teamed up with Ric. He’s going to do to her what he does to everybody – turn on her. He leaves, and Ava says, that was fun.
Cody says he doesn’t know what he’d do if he was in Dante’s shoes, and Dante says, he’d do the same. Remember the past and pray things get better. Cody says he’s not good at the heart stuff, but Dante says, he committed himself to an insane asylum to help Sasha. He’s got a great family and girlfriend. Cody says, better late than never, when Dante’s phone dings. He says, it’s Kristina. She’s in trouble.
Brennan says, two witnesses saw her drop the gun off the bridge the same night as the murder, and Alexis says, correct. He asks if she drove straight to the bridge after finding the gun, and she says, yes. He says, after that? and she says she went home. He says he understands Kristina was staying with her, and she says, Kristina was just released from the hospital. He asks what route she took to Blackstone Canyon, and she says, there’s only one. He says, and after she got rid of the gun, she went back home to her daughter, and Alexis flashes back to finding Kristina and her car keys gone. She says, yes. She found the gun outside, went to the bridge, dropped it in the water, and went straight home. He asks if anything has slipped her mind, and she remembers looking for Kristina. She says, no, and he says, it’s important she answer truthfully. She flashes back to Kristina saying, Cates has to be stopped, and he asks if anyone else drove her car the night of Cates’s murder.
Sam says she didn’t mean for Danny to hear that, but Danny says, it’s okay. His dad will be all right. Just have a little faith. She says she’ll try, and he says, his dad is going to bring Lucky home and everything is going to be okay. She’s just got to wait and see.
Ava says, the last person who got under Sonny’s skin ended up with a couple of bullets in his chest, but Ric says he’s not afraid of Sonny and he’s an excellent lawyer. She says she likes his confidence, but Sonny had a point. Why should she trust him? He says, she came looking for him. Nina put them together. Besides, what does she want to do? Roll over for Sonny? He’s not going to let that happen. She says, if he comes through for her, she’ll sing his praises to anyone who will listen. He’s got to get her daughter away from Sonny for good.
Dante says he wants to talk to Kristina, but he doesn’t want to leave Lulu, and Cody says he’s got it covered. Dante says he appreciates it, and leaves. Cody sits by Lulu’s bed and says, hey, Lulu. I’m Cody. Let me tell you about the time I put live worms in Dante’s spaghetti.
Sasha says she’s flattered that Tracy is interested in her life, but she doesn’t think Tracy is that interested. She thinks this whole thing stems from the party she threw for Cody and the Scorpios. Tracy is afraid of losing her friend to her and his family. She doesn’t have that many friends. Tracy says, that’s presumptuous, and Sasha says, but true. Does she ever wonder why everyone leaves?
Kristina says she’s sorry to take Dante away from Lulu, but her mom was arrested for John Cates’s murder. She has to help her, but she doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t know why it happened and has to find out. Dante says he’s not on the case and he’s sorry, but if Alexis was arrested, unfortunately, they have some serious evidence to back it up.
Molly goes into the station and asks Dex where her mom is. He says she’s in the interrogation room with Detective Bennet.
Bennet asks if he needs to repeat the question, but Alexis says she heard fine. She was the only person who drove her car that night. He says, interesting. Her car was seen parked in the Quartermaine’s driveway at the same time John Cates was shot. (Um… If they could see that, wouldn’t they see that no one got out of the car? Details, details…)
Sonny comes into the station and Molly asks what he’s doing here. He says he’s here to post bail for Alexis, but she says, he’s too late. She’s burying herself to protect his daughter.
Tomorrow, Drew says, it’s not working for him; Willow says, it feels so out of control; Alexis tells Kristina, do not take this further; and Molly tells Sonny, that’s the worst thing he can do.
Below Deck Mediterranean
Gael cries to Aesha about Nathan and her ex, then decides to go to bed. Carrie and Joe go to the galley and have something that looks like pizza, but Carrie calls a toasty. Gael gets in Nathan’s bunk, and he asks, what’s wrong? and she says, nothing. He says he can’t wait to travel with her, but she tells him that he doesn’t have to say that. He says he wants her and loves her more and more, and she tells him, then show it.
6 hours before charter. Joe tells Nathan, Carrie is so sound… as a mate. He’s not interested in anything else. In Nathan’s interview, he says, bullsh*t. It’s what he does. It’s his master class. Leah texts that she’s packed, and Captain Sandy texts back, have a safe flight. Nathan looks at hotels, and in Gael’s interview, she says, in her last relationship, she didn’t feel like a priority. She questions if her feelings are real. She doesn’t want lighting to strike twice. Provisions come in, including a huge sliver and blue ballon display. Aesha tells the stews that they can’t ask for a better last charter. She’s had them before. Their dinner theme is Swedish pop Greek musical… ABBA, and the yacht crew is putting on a performance. She tells Bri that the laundry has been great, and Bri grins widely. She says, Ellie’s décor is amazing. She’s nailing it. She’s noticed the dish washing is slower, but Carrie is setting a good example of how quickly it can be done. In Ellie’s interview, she says, there’s been a palpable shift in Aesha’s behavior since Carrie came on board. Remember me? This poor thing. Seriously, she needs some therapy for those insecurity issues. Aesha tells the stews to use every bit of fuel in their tanks. Let’s show them one last time. Ellie sighs as she makes beds.
Ellie and Bri talk about Joe as they do the cabins, and Carrie says, it’s their last time doing this. Ellie says she’ll be glad to be back in South Florida. Aesha radios Ellie and asks what she’s doing. Ellie says she’s helping Bri with the cabins, but Aesha says she told Ellie to do the stairs. Just do what she said. When Ellie comes down, Aesha says, there are fingermarks on the door. On Ellie’s way to buff them, she starts goofing around in the crew mess, and in Aesha’s interview, she says, Ellie didn’t listen to anything. They’re about to do charter and she’s flouncing around. Does Ellie want to piss her off? In Ellie’s interview, she says she feels like she has to check out a little. She doesn’t like how she’s being treated. She understands Aesha’s standards, but the way she’s going about it is having the opposite effect.
The crew lines up for the guests’ arrival, and Aesha says she’s enjoying this moment. Co-primaries Stacey and Brad get hugs from Aesha. She says she’s so excited, and the captain welcomes them. Aesha shows them around, and Stacey says, it’s definitely an upgrade. Joe says, it’s the last charter, and Nathan says, let’s ace it. In Iain’s interview, he says, it’s the last charter and he wants to have fun and check out the ancient ruins. They made it. In Carrie’s interview, she says, Ellie is trying to be the alpha, but she needs a break. It’s nice to have no responsibility for a little while. She was on a yacht where the owner lost his wife, and she went from chief stew to caregiver. Stacey toasts to a day filled with mischief, and Aesha says she can’t wait.
Nathan hugs Gael, and in his interview, he says, Gael is still thinking about a lot of things from her past relationship. He wants to give her reassurance, but he doesn’t know what else he can do. Jono prepares lunch and… mmmm… spring rolls… In Jono’s interview, he says he’s never met anyone gay or Black in the industry. He’s a double minority. He feels the energy and wants to make the guests extra happy. He needs that flavor, flavor. There are lots of wows over the food, and anchor is dropped. In Joe’s interview, he says he has no harsh feelings against Gael. They’ve had their ups and downs. We flash back to some of those, and he says he wanted her to excel and do the tender driving. He has to be careful what he says to her. One of the guests says, they haven’t eaten this much since 1976, and I wonder what that means. What happened in 1976? Had there been a famine and they made up for it? Did they come off the Atkins or Scarsdale diet? Ellie goes to help Carrie with laundry, and Carrie says she doesn’t want to mess up Bri’s system. Too many cooks and all that. In Ellie’s interview, she says, it feels amazing as second stew to have a floater tell her what to do. What the f*** is going on?
Ellie goes back to the bar, and Aesha asks, how’s laundry? Ellie says, there’s a lot going on. Carrie said there were too many cooks in the kitchen, so she’s back. In the laundry, Carrie tells Bri that she told Ellie not to mess with the laundry, and in Bri’s interview, she says, the color thing is working. Having Carrie around gives her time to focus fully. The guests play on the water toys, and Aesha tells Ellie to decorate the dinner table and the sundeck for the performance. The deckhands have a group hug, the balloon arch is put up, and anchor is pulled. Ellie says, there’s a crate of disco balls in the closet, and in her interview, she says, the theme is Swedish pop music. They’re in Greece. The table décor is the only thing bringing her joy on this soul sucking boat. Aesha says, the décor is awesome, and the starter comes out in plates of colorful food porn. I’m wowing along with the guests, since Jono really stepped up his game big time. Presentation and everything.
Aesha reminds Joe that there’s a performance tonight and asks if he and Gael want to plan something. Joe tells Carrie that he’s got to come up with a dance, and in his interview, he says he and Carrie have the same vibe, but they’re just friends. In Carrie’s interview, she says, they’re just pals. Leah texts Captain Sandy that she’s landed, and the captain says she’s excited and can’t wait to see her. In Aesha’s interview, she says she doesn’t understand what Ellie is playing at. She thinks Ellie is trying to show Carrie, hey, bitch, I do have a little power. But guess what? She’s going to swoop in and put out Ellie’s candle. Gael and Joe practice a dance, and the first course is served. Stacey asks if the chef is coming home with them, and Iain puts up a rainbow flag, while Jono gets a hug. Nathan tells Gael, it’s cuddle time, and they get in her bunk together. She says, she’s scared. She doesn’t really know him out of the work environment. In Gael’s interview, she says, it’s hard not to feel that he’s being real. She can’t say he’s lying at this point, and feels she has to decide if this is a risk worth taking.
Aesha tells the guests that they’re moving on to the after party. The crew gets dressed in some weird 80s outfits that look like they were just thrown together from random items, Nathan is wearing a leotard thing that screams with too many neon colors. Gael and Joe do aerobics a dance, and in Joe and Nathan’s joint interview, Joe says, what Nathan was wearing is questionable, but he owns it. Stacey says, it was fabulous, and thanks them.
2nd day of charter. We see the Temple of Poseidon, and Aesha asks if the captain is thinking about any plans for the big day. In Aesha’s interview, she says, not in a million years did she think that one day she’d be planning Captain Sandy’s engagement. We flash back to Aesha and the captain over the years, and Aesha says, they all settled in Colorado and are developing a friendship. They’re going have this day in their memories for the rest of their lives. She really wants to pull this off. The deckhands drop the lines and the yacht clears out. Jono sends out platters of eggs, bacon, and some bread, but these ain’t your mama’s eggs, bacon, and bread. Stacey says, they have the best-looking crew, and another guest says, us or them? Stacey says, both. It’s time for the guests’ surprise excursion, and they drop anchor. Aesha tells Bri that she can go with the guests. She’s been doing so well in laundry, Aesha wanted her to have a little treat. In Aesha’s interview, she says, Bri’s mythical god was laundry, and she overcame it. So now she can climb up a rocky, steep road to see the Temple of Poseidon. Jono hums in the galley, and I swear it’s the Banana Splits theme. Aesha goes over the flowers, table, violinists, and champagne with the Captain Sandy, and the captain tells Aesha to put peach tea in a champagne glass for her. In Captain Sandy’s interview, she says her stomach is funny. She doesn’t want to get it wrong. She wants it to be perfect. Don’t talk too fast. Don’t talk too slow. She hopes the weather is great. Will the flowers be there? Will the violinists be there? Aesha asks if she can watch from afar, and the captain says, yes. Aesha says, Captain Sandy just made her day.
The guests head out to the temple, and Iain joins them along with Bri. In Iain’s interview, he says, sometimes he falls behind scenes making everything run. He gives the guests factoids about the temple as they do a walking tour. The two that stuck are: it’s a prototype for the Acropolis, and there are 16 columns left of the original 34. In Bri’s interview, she says she’s happy lain prepared something. They’re not the entertainers on the boat. They return to the yacht, and Aesha tells Ellie to prepare for the drag queens. They’re coming in upstairs. Ellie directs Bri and Carrie about where to place everything sparkle, and in Carrie’s interview, she says she thinks Ellie is enjoying bossing. She’d be a great decorator. Captain Sandy calls Leah, who says she saw the Acropolis. The captain says she has a special treat for her. Jono tells Aesha that he was hitting a wall, but he’s good now, and over the radio, Aesha hears Carrie asking Ellie where the double-sided tape is. Ellie says she doesn’t know… and Aesha says, just fold the blue tape over. She asks what Bri is doing, and Bri says, blowing up balloons with the compressor. Ellie says, Bri is helping, and Aesha wonders how this conversation is still going. She loves it. She tells Jono that she’s noticed Ellie overstepping her role, and in Aesha’s interview, she says, Ellie thinks being chief stew is walking around the boat and telling people what to do. She’s making sure the balloons are in the right place. Thanks, Ellie. Aesha looks at the rainbow balloon wall and takes Carrie aside. She asks if Carrie thinks Ellie is overstepping, and Carrie says, yes. Aesha says, that’s not cool. When she’s here, she’s the one who delegates. Carrie says, it creates confusion. If she had to do that for a whole season, she’d be struggling with her tongue.
The guests dress in an ancient Grecian outfits, along with Aesha, and they all look surprisingly stunning. Stacey says, they’re all here. They’re all queer. Let the festivities begin. They say a quick prayer to Zeus and Aesha tells the crew, let’s roll, homies. Dinner is served, and Aesha tells Jono that the guests absolutely love it. Iain goes to get the drag queens, and I wonder if their hair will fit in the tender. Stacey says, there’s no such thing as extra extra in their world. Aesha radios Jono that they’re clearing the first course, then Ellie does too. As Ellie walks by, Aesha tells her that she’d already radioed Jono, but Ellie says she didn’t hear Aesha. In Aesha’s interview, she says, not once this whole season did Ellie not hear her say they were clearing on the radio. It’s the straw that broke the camel’s back for her. It’s too much.
Joe instructs Gael on night navigation, and in Gael’s interview, she says, Joe is encouraging. She loved that about him from the beginning. He didn’t look down on her and was willing to teach her. He’s being a good lead deckhand right now. If he dropped the petty resentment he has against her, he could be one of her best friends. Aesha says she’d like a word with Ellie and tells Ellie that she thought the after-dinner stuff was annoying, but feels it was a build-up. Ellie has been overstepping her job as second stew. She’s only to delegate if Aesha’s not around, not if she’s on the floor. Ellie acts like she’s never even thought of such a thing, and Aesha says, it’s been noticed. Ellie says she would never disrespect Aesha like that, and we flash back to Ellie harping about being second stew and bossing the other stews around. In Aesha’s interview, she says, they’re at the point where Ellie is being disrespectful of her position for her own ego, and she doesn’t give a sh*t. She’s had to coddle Ellie and she’s sick of it. In Ellie’s interview, she says, Aesha is blaming her and making her the scapegoat, and Aesha tells Ellie, it’s really frustrating and it can’t happen.
Next time, the finale, Ellie hopes she’ll be able to get through this without blowing a gasket; Leah arrives; Captain Sandy says, this is the biggest day of her life; the tender is inoperable, and Joe thinks he just ruined the captain’s day.

General Hospital
Chase says, Finn’s going to do the talking, right? and Finn tells him, that’s what he said. It’s just he was thinking Chase could say it better. Chase asks why he could say it better, and Finn says he’s not exactly known for his bedside manner. Chase, on the other hand… Chase says he what? and Finn says, he does things with care and compassion. Chase says, Finn can be caring and compassionate when he tells their dad that they don’t think he should come to the rehearsal dinner tonight. And he can’t wait to go to Coney Island. Gregory comes in and says, good morning. He’s sorry it takes him so long to get up and get dressed. Did he miss seeing Violet off to school? and Finn says, yeah. She’s only going for a half-day, and he’s going to pick her up so she can change before going to the airport. Gregory says, sounds like a plan, and Finn says, speaking of plans, they wanted to talk to him about this evening, and he… Chase?
Alexis opens the door to Laura and says she was just preparing for her hearing next week. Laura says she was so happy to hear Alexis was taking steps to overturn her disbarment. How’s it going? Alexis says she thinks she’s as prepared as she can be, but at this point, she’s just spinning her wheels. Laura says she thinks Alexis is going to do great. She knows Alexis is an excellent lawyer. As a matter of fact, that’s why she’s here.
At the MetroCourt, Ava tells Sonny that she contacted two of their most high-profile artists to see if either of them would like a large commission to create a piece for the city. Sonny watches Jordan talking with Olivia, and says, turns out that’s not going to be necessary because he’s moved on to another idea. Ava looks over at Jordan and Olivia.
There’s a knock at Blaze’s hotel room door, and Blaze opens it to Natalia. Natalia asks if she can come in. She doesn’t want to see anything she shouldn’t see. Blaze says, since she knocked instead of barging in, she thinks Natalia is safe. What brings her by? Natalia says she wanted to see what outfit Blaze is going to go with for the Quartermaine wedding, and Blaze says she hasn’t decided yet. Why? Natalia says she doesn’t want to clash with it.
Jason is doing actual work at the coffee warehouse when Sam runs in and asks, where’s Danny?
Laura says she went to see Heather in Pentenville the other day, and Alexis asks how she’s doing. Laura says, pretty well. She’s still recovering nicely from the surgery, but other than that… Alexis says, she’s still the same Heather, but Laura says, no. She’s really not. Since the replaced the bad hip, the changes in Heather are striking. Alexis says, in a good way? and Laura says, it appears so. Alexis says, appears being the operative word, and Laura says she knows Alexis and Doc talked about this a few weeks back. She just wondered if Alexis was able to find anything that would suggest they might be able to revisit Heather’s case. Alexis says she’s surprised Laura actually wants to move forward with this, and Laura says, it’s just that the more she talks to Heather, the more she believes the cobalt poisoning was affecting her ability to reason. Alexis says, so the metallosis was the reason she killed those people, and tried to kill all those other people, and had two decades of horrendous and cruel behavior? Laura says she’s not qualified to say. All she can say is, up until this point, Heather has always felt justified in her actions. Alexis says, and now? and Laura says, now she’s beginning to question her violent behavior. And she’s showing signs of real remorse. She thinks in general, Heather is feeling more in control of herself and containing her anger better. That she actually witnessed. Alexis asks if Laura thinks Heather is actually growing a conscience, and Laura asks if Alexis was able to find anything to help her. Alexis says, actually, she did.
Gregory says, of course (🍷) he wants to hear everything Chase has to say, but first, there’s something he needs to say. If it’s all right. Chase says, please, and Finn says, by all means. Gregory says, having the rehearsal dinner on Coney Island is such a fun idea. (I actually wish I’d thought of something like that) And it’s beyond generous of Tracy to bring them all down there, so that Brook can revisit one of the great joys of her childhood. Everything about it seems unmissable… Chase says, the thing is… but Gregory says, please let him finish. He hopes they won’t be upset with him. He promises he’ll apologize to Brook and her family, but he really feels he needs to conserve his energy for the wedding itself. Chase asks if he’s saying… and Gregory says he’s thought long and hard about it. As much as he wants to go, he’s not going to go. He’s asked Tracy if she would stand in for him at the rehearsal. Chase says he really wishes Gregory could make it too, but he understands, and he’ll make sure everybody there does too. Gregory thanks him, and Finn says he knows it must have been a hard decision, but for what it’s worth (🍷), he thinks it was the right one. He can call a home help agency and see if he can get someone to stay with Gregory. Gregory says, no. That’s not necessary.
Blaze says, since when is Natalia going to Brook’s wedding? and Natalia says, since Blaze’s invitation arrived. Or did she not get a plus one? Blaze says she did and she’s taking Kristina, and Natalia asks, why? Blaze says, because Kristina’s her girlfriend, and Natalia says, how could she forget? Blaze says, it seems to slip her mind a lot, and Natalia says, Blaze’s relationship with Kristina is always on her mind, especially at times like this. Blaze says she knows she’s going to hate herself for asking, but times like what? and Natalia says she thinks it’s unwise for Blaze and Kristina to go as a couple to such a public event. She thought they had an understanding about that. Blaze says, so did she. Apparently, they were both wrong.
Jason says, Danny’s not here, and Sam says, all she knows is that he’s not in school. She got a call from his counselor. He was concerned because Danny missed an appointment. He asks why Danny is seeing a counselor, and she says, because Danny occasionally has trouble following the rules. Anyway, he wasn’t marked as present in his first period class, so she used that location app on his phone to see where he was… He says, she’s tracking Danny? and she says, the app said his phone was at home. So she went upstairs to his bedroom and his phone was on his bed under a pile of clothes, which means he deliberately doesn’t want her to know where he is. Jason says, maybe he just forgot his phone, but she says, no teenager ever let’s their phone out of their sight. Especially Danny, considering she just gave his phone back to him. He says he hasn’t seen Danny, and doesn’t she see that she’s training Danny to lie to her?
Sam says, first of all, Jason doesn’t know anything about her relationship with Danny. Danny knows he can trust her. Jason asks, how would he know that? Every time Danny brings up the truth in wanting to spend time with him, he gets into trouble. He thinks maybe if he lies, there’s a chance he won’t get caught and won’t get in trouble. She says she just warned Danny that being around Jason is dangerous and their son refuses to listen to her. He says, okay. If they agree that he and Danny can spend some time together, he won’t be somewhere dangerous. She says, what happens if he just shows up at Jason’s place like he did the other day? Can he promise her that Danny won’t be walking into something dangerous? He says, no, and she says, exactly. And that’s what terrifies her. It’s not just about Danny getting to know him and spending time with him. He wants the danger. He chases it just like Jason. Just like she used to. He says, this is different. There was a time when he didn’t care if he lived or died. He doesn’t see that in Danny. She says, then tell her what it is he sees in their son as opposed to the last time he was in town, and he says he just sees a kid who likes freedom. She says, he’s a teenage boy. They all want their freedom. He just doesn’t know what to do with it. Jason really doesn’t know anything about raising a teenager. He says, maybe not, but she says, definitely not. Because the first rule in raising a teenager is being there, and he wasn’t. He was alive and she still has no idea where he was or what he was doing. And nice tattoo by the way. Did he show that to Danny? Did he at least explain to him where that came from? What are the odds Danny is going to want a tattoo too? (Ha-ha! Tattoo too.) Let’s just hope he goes for one and doesn’t go full out with a whole sleeve. She actually doesn’t know. Maybe that just happened one tattoo at a time over the past two plus years. He says he’ll explain to Danny… and she says, he’ll explain to Danny that he should just hide Jason in the boathouse and not tell her. He says, for what it’s worth (🍷), Danny walked in on him in the boathouse. He didn’t seek Danny out. She says, he told their son to lie to her about it, and he says, because that was the safest thing for Danny right then. That was his decision. Be mad at him. She says she is mad at him, but she’s afraid for their son, and he says, she’s afraid that she can’t control him. He doesn’t even think she sees it. And no matter what Danny does, it feels like he’s in trouble, and it’s wrong. He’s a kid. If he skips school, he’s going to get into trouble. He’s got detention, he gets grounded, take the phone away. He’s going to pay the price. Life goes on. She says, if he knows so much about their son, where is he right now?
Alexis tells Laura that she found two cases where post-condition release was granted because the key witnesses recanted their testimony. The most relevant was a forensic psychiatrist who acknowledged his findings were based on incomplete evidence. Laura says, so then a diagnosis of cobalt poisoning would have helped Heather’s defense, and Alexis says, possibly. If Laura can get a transcript of Heather’s court appearance, she’ll take a look at it. Laura thanks her, and she says, but Laura has to manage her expectations. Metallosis or not, there is no judge that will want to vacate her conviction because the body count is too high, and she confessed, and she pled guilty. Laura says, yes, but all of her actions were under the influence of something out of her control, and Alexis says, maybe she didn’t murder anyone before the metallosis, but Laura can’t pretend Heather was some sort of quirky free spirit. Laura says, she’s right, and Alexis says, it’s a long shot. Laura asks if Alexis is saying she can’t help anymore, because she certainly would understand that, and Alexis says, as a citizen of Port Charles, as a human being, she’s hesitant. As a once and hopefully future attorney again, she believes everyone is entitled to a fair defense, even Heather. Laura says, then she’ll see about getting Alexis those transcripts.
Blaze says she’s taken Natalia’s advice on keeping her private life private. As much as she hates to say it, Natalia has a point. She hates that people are so intolerant. Even a quarter of the way through the twenty-first century, things for queer people… Natalia says, please don’t refer to herself that way, and Blaze says, things for people like her are getting harder and harder. All of this to say, this is a family wedding, not a public event. Natalia says, sometimes Blaze can be such an innocent. Yes, this is not a public wedding, but everybody is going to read about it, and all the lucky invitees are going to be plastering their social media with photos and selfies, especially since there’s going to be a celebrity in their midst, which Blaze is. Blaze says she doesn’t think anything is going to change because they saw her standing next to Kristina, but Natalia says, that doesn’t even count all the professional photos that are going to be out there on the newswire. And that’s not just locally. It’s going to start at The Invader and then it’s going to proliferate outward. Blaze says she wouldn’t worry. The Quartermaines are used to protecting their privacy from the press. Yes, it will be a well-attended event, but only by close family and friends, and she’s going with Kristina. Natalia says, she’s thinking about this in the absolutely wrong way, and Blaze asks how she should be thinking about it. Natalia says, she’s not going as just a regular person, and certainly not as somebody’s girlfriend. She has to think about herself as a brand. Sure, Ally can go to any old wedding she wants to with whoever she wants to, but the second somebody takes a photo of her and puts it online, she’s no longer Allison, she’s Blaze. And they’ve worked too hard to create this brand so carefully. She doesn’t want to see all this hard work and effort just be for nothing.
Olivia asks Sonny how he likes the new menu, and he says he loves it. He wants one of each. Ava says, so does she. She’s heard wonderful things about the new chef. Olivia says, they were a real find. She hopes Sonny wasn’t bothered by the guys in the ballroom. They’re pulling out all the stops. They want everything to be perfect for Chase and Brook’s wedding. Ava says she’s sure the reception is going to be absolutely beautiful, and her phone rings. Sonny says, whatever Olivia needs, she knows he’s here, and Ava says, it’s Trina at the gallery. They’re expecting a new piece today. Excuse her. Olivia says, hurry up. She doesn’t want to miss that. Ava leaves, and Olivia says, please. Tell her that he’s not bringing that one to the wedding.
Gregory says, Violet will be away with them, and while the caregivers are all perfectly nice, he could use a break from this endless procession of strangers in this apartment. Finn says, they’ve been through this before, and Chase says he’d feel more comfortable knowing Gregory isn’t alone. Gregory says, they won’t even be gone overnight. They’re flying back this evening. Chase says, they’ll probably be pretty late, and Gregory says, regardless, he’ll be fine. Finn says, it’s one thing if he spends the evening worrying about Gregory, but it’s Chase’s rehearsal dinner. He should be able to enjoy it without wondering if he’s abandoning Gregory. Gregory says, and Finn of all people would know what it’s like to be abandoned before his wedding. He recalls feeling great at his rehearsal dinner with Jackie, and then wondering where the hell Finn was when the wedding started. But by all means, lecture him on proper wedding etiquette. (Touché and ouch.) Finn says, okay. He thinks that Chase can take the conversation from here, and leaves.
Sam’s phone rings, and she tells Jason, it’s Danny’s school. She answers and listens a moment. She thanks them for letting her know, and tells Jason, that was Danny’s counselor. He got the time wrong. Danny’s at his appointment right now. Jason says, so where’s he been? and she says, in class. The first period teacher didn’t put the attendance into the computer until after the class was over, so go ahead and just say it. Tell her, I told you so. He says he’s just glad Danny is safe, and she says, her too. She’s going to get out of his way, and Sonny’s. He says, Sonny’s not here, and she asks where he is. Jason says he doesn’t know, but she says, of course (🍷) he would know where Sonny is. What’s going on? Did something happen between him and Sonny?
Blaze says, Brook’s wedding has nothing to do with her branding, and Natalia says, maybe she hasn’t been clear enough, but this wedding, her manager’s wedding, has everything to do with her branding. It’s like the most amazing photo op. An event like this, as prestigious as this Quartermaine wedding, and her going as Brook’s client, this is incredible PR. Photos of her and Brook together or even of the two of them together is all brand awareness for Blaze and her music. Blaze says she won’t use her friend’s wedding as a career steppingstone, and Natalia says, but her friend is also her manager, and she should be all over this. Blaze says she loves Natalia and she’s so grateful for everything Natalia has done for her finances. Not just when she started making money, but even before, to help her with her singing. From voice lessons to paying for studio time and everything, every little detail that’s helped her get this far. Natalia says she hears a but, and Blaze says, but there are decisions about her life that only she can make. And this is one of them.
Alexis tells Finn, come on in, and he thanks her for letting him come over. She says, of course (🍷). Start at the beginning. Tell her everything. He says he and Chase both thought it would be best for Gregory if he didn’t go to the rehearsal dinner tonight in Coney Island. So they went over to talk to him, and he beat them to the punch. He said he was going to stay home and rest for tomorrow. She says, okay. That’s great. He says, except he wanted to bring in a caregiver to keep an eye on him while they were all away, and she says, oh. So she guesses he didn’t like that idea. Finn says, no. Gregory reminded him that he slept with Jackie and didn’t show up at his wedding. She says, whoa. That wasn’t the turn she expected this to take. Finn says, him either, and she asks what he said. Finn says, nothing. He left, called her, and here they are. He abandoned his father again. She says, he walked away from an unwinnable argument. That is not abandonment. He says he kept Gregory out of his life for almost thirty years. He convinced himself that after what he’d done, staying away was the right thing to do. He blamed Gregory for moving on so quickly when Finn’s mom died. He even changed his name. He tried to distance himself from his father as much as he could. She says, and then they found their way back together. They worked it out. Finn says, if he ever thought Gregory was going to forgive him, this morning proved otherwise.
Sonny tells Olivia that he’s not bringing Ava. Lois made it a point to not invite her. She doesn’t even know those people. Olivia says, she may not know those people, but those people definitely know her. Ava comes back and says, what people? Olivia says, the Cerullos, the Falconaris, all the people from the old neighborhood. They’ll be at her stepdaughter’s wedding tomorrow. She tells Sonny that she’ll send the waitress right over, and leaves. Ava says, not that he asked, but just in case Sonny wants a plus one for the wedding, she did pick out a pretty spectacular outfit. No pressure. He says, there is no pressure because she’s not going.
Chase tells Gregory that he’s making himself breakfast if he wants anything, and Gregory says he’s so sorry. He shouldn’t have said what he said. Now he feels like he’s spoiled the evening for Chase and his brother. Chase says he doesn’t think Gregory spoiled anything. He and Finn just want to make sure he’s okay here and has help if he needs it. Gregory says he understands. He shouldn’t have lashed out like that. He let his nerves get the better of him. Chase says, he’s nervous? And Gregory says, of course (🍷) he’s nervous. Tomorrow is a huge day. Tonight’s an important night too. It’s the night before his son starts his life as a married man. And as much as he wants to be there with Chase and Brook and everybody, tomorrow is more important. He wants to go over everything he wants to say and make sure he gets a good night’s sleep, and he can’t do all that if some stranger he’s never laid eyes on before is asking him if he’s all right every fifteen minutes like he’s a toddler. Chase says he’s sorry, but Gregory says he doesn’t blame Chase. He doesn’t even blame Chase’s brother. He knows Finn’s just doing it out of concern for him. He’s sure from Finn’s perspective, he thinks he’s right. Chase says, it’s not just that. Sometimes he wonders if he and Brook made a mistake asking him to preside over the wedding. What was Gregory supposed to do? Say no? Chase is concerned that with Gregory’s illness, they’re putting too much pressure on him. Gregory says, presiding over Chase’s wedding is the opposite of pressure. He puts his hands on Chase’s shoulders and says, it’s the greatest honor of his life.
Blaze says she’s going to this wedding with Kristina, period, and Natalia says, she’s made that clear. Blaze says, but Natalia keeps trying to talk her out of it, and Natalia says, no. Blaze has made her decision… a bad one. She apologizes if Blaze has found her concern and her honesty disagreeable. Blaze says she actually understands Natalia’s concerns. She knows how hard Natalia has worked for her continued success. Not just for herself; she knows Natalia is doing it for her too. Natalia says, for her first, and Blaze says she knows how important her image is, especially how important it is to Natalia, but nothing she’s done – nothing that she and Kristina have done – is a threat to her career. On the contrary, her music is taking off. Her fans are going nuts on social media, demanding she release her new single, and she thinks it’s going to be her best one yet because she’s so happy with Kristina. Natalia says, happy musicians don’t make great music, and Blaze asks if Natalia is saying she has to be miserable to have a successful career. Natalia says she just knows Blaze made her decision. Do what suits her and they’ll see which one of them is right. She picks up her bag and walks out.
In her office on the phone, Laura says, Webber. W-e-b-b-e-r. First name, Heather. Jordan walks in, and Laura says, there won’t have been a jury trial, but look for the arraignment, expert witness hearings. Maybe one or two of those would be medical and psychiatric, then sentencing…Okay. Thank you. She tells Jordan, sorry about that. What can she do for her? Jordan says she wanted to give Laura an update on the progress for that urban renewal project, and Laura says, that’s moving forward already? Jordan says, mm-hmm, and it just got a big boost. Laura says, from where? and Jordan says, McConkey. Laura says, Congressman McConkey? That’s amazing. Tell her more. Jordan says she will, but first, she needs to ask Laura something. What was all of that about Heather Webber?
Sam asks if this is about Dante’s shooting, because everyone knows it wasn’t Jason. Jason pretty much saved his life. Jason says he’s been working as an undercover informant for the FBI, and she says, what? She doesn’t understand. How? He says, it doesn’t matter, but she says, of course (🍷) it does. He says, what matters is, the undercover part is over, but his connection to the FBI is not.
Ava asks what Olivia said about her, but Sonny says, she didn’t say anything. The Cerullos and the Falconaris are going to be there, and they have long memories. She says she knows what they think she did, but there is… He says, they don’t need to have proof. They know because Olivia knows, and he knows. She walks into that wedding, it’s disrespecting Connie’s memory and he can’t do that. She gets up and says, if that’s how he feels, maybe she should rethink her place in his house, and he says he can’t believe… She says, what happened to being the only person he could trust? and he says he can’t believe she doesn’t see this. It doesn’t matter that the – he lowers his voice – evidence was destroyed. She still did what she did. She says, what happened was a very long time ago, and he asks, how long before she lets go of what Ryan did to Kiki? She says, how dare he throw her daughter’s murder in her face? and he says, that’s how the family’s going to feel if she walks into the wedding. He gets up and says, listen to him, okay? If she wants to move out, she can move out. It’s safe now, so he’ll buy a place for her, and Avery or Avery can stay with him. She says she’ll take care of her daughter herself, just as she always has, and walks out. He sits back down.
Laura says she’s taken it upon herself to investigate what legal proceedings were held in Heather’s case, and Jordan says, for the Hook murders? Laura says, yes, and for everything that happened on Spoon Island with Ryan and Esme. Jordan asks what she’s hoping to find, and Laura says she just wants to see what expert testimony was given, if any. She doesn’t know much about the case. She distanced herself from it at the time it happened. Jordan says, that sounds wise, but why this sudden interest? and Laura suggests they sit down. She says, it has recently come to light that Heather has been suffering from a medical issue that was brought about by a disintegrating hip replacement. Jordan says, that sounds awful, but what does it have to do with her case? Laura says, the hip raised her levels of cobalt and other metals in her system to the point of toxicity, and it’s quite possible that chemical imbalance was affecting her judgement. Jordan says, driving her to commit a series of kidnappings, jailbreaks, acts of terror, and murders. Laura says, metallosis, or cobalt poisoning, is not permanent. So once the bad hip replacement is removed, the patient can begin to recover. Jordan says, that sounds great for Heather, but… Laura tells Jordan that she’s not saying this excuses Heather for any of the violence she unleashed on this city. She’s just saying it’s possible that it may mitigate some of her responsibility for those crimes.
Sam says, if Jason has been working with the FBI, does that mean he’s working with that Agent Cates, the one that tried to question Danny? He says, yes, it does, and she says, and that’s why Sonny’s turned his back on him. He nods, and she says, and why he hasn’t been in Port Charles. He says, yes, and she says, how the hell did he of all people, get involved with the FBI? but he says he can’t tell her. She says, he means he won’t, and he tells her that he’s saying this because he didn’t choose to stay away from his family. He would never do that.
Alexis says she knows what Gregory said hurt Finn, but Finn says, it was true. She says, what is also true is that Gregory has forgiven him now, ten times over, and Finn says, he hasn’t forgotten. She says, it wasn’t that easy to forget, but it’s history. She can tell him, most people would not have been able to overcome that. He says, if this is a pep talk, it’s not going really well, and they laugh. She says, but they both overcame it. Unforgivable things can be forgiven. She knows this. She’s been on both sides of the sword. He says, like with her daughters? and she says, yeah. She and Sam did not have a great relationship when Sam found out she gave her up for adoption. And Kristina. She thinks they’ve been duking it out since Kristina was in the womb. He says, and Molly? and Alexis says, she’s perfect… No, there’s been things. She’s not perfect. He asks what lesson she learned from angering her daughters, and she says, sometimes she was the injured party. He says, of course (🍷). He’s sorry. He apologizes. She thanks him and says, but what they’re talking about is his lesson here. Which is, the fact that Gregory felt safe enough to snap at him, means that he has faith in this relationship. Finn says he’s glad Gregory feels safe, and she says, Finn doesn’t. He says, not particularly, and she asks, why not? How does he feel? He says he needs a meeting. She gets up and says, let’s find you one, and he says he’s his brother’s best man. But how can he even think about getting on a plane tonight and flying down to that rehearsal dinner while his father is sick and refuses to let anyone stay with him? She says, he’s not missing his brother’s rehearsal dinner, but he says he doesn’t see any other way around it. Not that his dad would even want him there at this point. She says she has an idea.
Laura asks if Jordan has any questions, and Jordan says, just one. What is she hoping to discover? That Heather can no longer be held responsible for her crimes and be let off? Or that she can still be held responsible and kept safely away from the public? Laura says she’s just trying to get to the truth, and Jordan says, and then what? Look, she can’t be objective. Not only did Heather terrorize Curtis’s daughter, which hits very close to home with her, but Trina’s involvement with Spencer was part of the motive for Heather to commit this series of murders, including a cop. Laura says, Rory Cabrera (I feel guilty because I’d totally forgotten him), and Jordan says, yeah, and all of this was to avenge Heather’s daughter, who clearly didn’t need help avenging. Laura says she’s well-aware, and Jordan says, then she must be aware how this must make the families of the victims feel. Laura says she’s not taking this lightly. Quite the opposite. Jordan says she’s glad to hear it. Because the entire city suffered during Heather’s reign of terror. Does Laura want her advice? Laura doesn’t look like she does, but says, please, and Jordan says, do not go near this. Don’t challenge the convictions Heather Webber so clearly deserved. Laura says, but from an objective, legal standpoint, and Jordan says, Laura is not a lawyer and neither is she. If Laura feels Heather needs a lawyer, then find a third party to hire one, but for her to get involved would be political suicide. Laura says, but she’s not trying to have Heather exonerated, or even released from custody necessarily. Jordan says, necessarily will give her political rivals enough rope to hang her and her constituents will line up to cheer them on. This city needs her. She’s a strong and effective mayor. She’d hate to see Laura sacrifice her career and the welfare of this city for the likes of Heather Webber.
Natalia walks into the MetroCourt and sees Sonny, who looks like he has a headache. She says, good morning, and he says, it’s better now. She says she sees he’s waiting for someone, and he says, how does she know it’s not her? (Oh man, dude is smooth, even in his spiral.) Have a seat. She thanks him and sits down. They smile at each other.
Gregory says he’s so sorry, and Chase says, again, he doesn’t have to apologize. Gregory says he feels like he does, especially to Chase’s brother, and Chase says he’s sure Finn knows he didn’t mean it. Gregory says he hopes so. Anyway, tonight isn’t about him, so go ahead and call the home help agency. Chase thanks him… for breakfast, and goes in the back. Gregory’s phone rings, and he asks Alexis, to what does he owe this pleasure? She says, her anxiety? She’s heading to Albany in the morning. He says, already? He thought she had a little more time before she had to make her case. She says, yeah, but she’s doing some last-minute research, and she could use his ears and his brain. How would he feel about her bringing over some Chinese or Mexican food and they can go over her plea to the Appeals Court? He says, tonight? It… Sure. He’d be happy to help. Alexis gives a thumbs up to Finn.
Sam thanks Jason for telling her and apologizes for jumping to conclusions about him and Danny. He says he’s just glad Danny is where he’s supposed to be, and she says, her too. And about the whole boundaries thing they discussed about Danny… He says he’ll honor those, and she thanks him. She leaves, closing the door behind her.
Outside, Sam makes a call. She says, I need to see you, and keeps walking.
Tomorrow, Ava says she thought she’d come to the expert; Josslyn asks Dex to race; Sonny asks Natalia if she’s in a hurry, because he’s not; and Anna tells Jason that it makes their job exponentially harder.
On unsupportive partners night, I’m not sure who was worse. Kyle who literally freaked out and went on a drunken rampage when Amanda dared have a dream outside of his precious Loverboy. Or Lindsay, who wouldn’t support an idea of Carl’s if it came notarized and delivered in the Publisher’s Clearing House van. She isn’t afraid Carl will be pigeon-holed, she’s afraid she’ll have to quit drinking.
I have to admit, I didn’t really know Julia Fox except for some vague recollection of her name. Another fashion designer competition, but speedier and so far outside the box, it’s got it’s own box without borders. The creations are amazing, and I’m fascinated. I barely have the patience to sew on a button, but those who can’t do, watch.
I watched this the first weekend it was out, and it lived up to the first season. I’m a big fan of a horror story paralleling real life horrors, and it was a treat to see Pam Grier. There’s a nod to the first season at the end, but you needn’t have watched it to understand this one.
Come back tomorrow for soap and a bouquet of entertaining distractions. Until then, stay safe, stay not blocking the baggage conveyor at the airport, and stay remembering that unforgivable things can be forgiven.
(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)
General Hospital
Curtis goes to Drew’s office, and Drew thanks him for coming by. Curtis asks if they’re talking about Aurora’s potential move into wellness, but Drew says, it’s not potential anymore. They’re doing it. His people ran the numbers and they’re doing a dual launch. An online lifestyle website, and they’re doing brick and mortar. The flagship gym is going to be right here in Port Charles. It’s going to be huge. All they need is somebody to run the division. So is he interested?
At the hospital, Aiden brings a big plastic container of cupcakes to the reception desk and asks if he can leave it for Elizabeth. The nurse says she’ll make sure Elizabeth gets it, and Aiden goes back to the elevator. Elizabeth sees him and asks if he’s not going to say hello.
In her office, Maxie tells Scotty that he’s got to help them. Lucy insists on being their on-air pitchwoman for Deception. He says, for cryin’ out loud, they know Lucy. She gets one whiff of fame, and it’s off to the races. There’s no stopping her. Maxie says, they have to because Home & Heart said they’re not giving Deception another spot if Lucy insists on being on camera. He says he could threaten to sue, but it’s their show. They can put on who they want. She says, they don’t want another lawsuit. They want to sell their products, and if they lose this opportunity, they lose exposure, which translates to lost sales. So please just talk to her. Convince her they need someone else… Lucy walks in and says, they wouldn’t believe all the people staring at her as she walked through the lobby. It’s very gratifying, although she is just a very humble, working gal, but she has thousands of followers. Did they see her post? So many likes. Scotty looks at Maxie, who says she rests her case.
Kristina says it’s so nice of TJ and Molly to have her over for breakfast. She’s surprised the baby is so quiet. It was practically kicking field goals yesterday. Molly says, sorry they missed it, and Kristina says, her too. He or she is probably sleeping now because they tired themselves out. TJ asks if she’s sleeping, and Kristina says, usually she manages six or seven hours a night, never less than five. Why? TJ says, Molly mentioned she stopped by pretty late the other night… after a fight?
Natalia knocks at Alexis’s office door and says she’s sorry to just show up at her doorway, but Alexis’s assistant wasn’t at her desk. Alexis says, if this is about the editorial… but Natalia says, no. She’s Natalia Rameriz, Allison’s mom. Kristina’s friend? Alexis says, yes, of course (🍷). Come on in. Natalia says she knows Alexis is a busy woman, as is she, but she just thought it was time they met. Alexis says, absolutely. Nice to meet her. They shake hands, and Alexis says she’s heard a lot about Natalia. Natalia says she’s sure, probably not all of it good. Is she right?
Natalia says she and Kristina had a bumpy start, because when she first met Kristina, she was in Allison’s bed, which was a surprise, as Alexis can imagine. Alexis says, she had no idea they were together, and Natalia says, no. Alexis says she understands Blaze hadn’t come out to Natalia yet. She hopes it wasn’t too much of a surprise. She gestures for Natalia to sit down, and Natalia says she had the pleasure of meeting Kristina’s father, and Alexis says, she met Sonny. Natalia says, and from what he told her, they have a really good relationship. Alexis asks if he said that, and Natalia says, and she knows Kristina is very close to her dad. Alexis says, she is. Kristina loves her family. Natalia says, that’s obvious. She said she’s carrying her sister’s baby.
Molly says she told TJ that Kristina came over around midnight. She just wanted to talk. Kristina says she was pretty worked up, which she knows isn’t good for the baby. She just needed some sister time. Nobody calms her down like Molly. These hormones are no joke. And as for the fight, Josslyn apologized to her, and they worked things out. TJ asks if she minds if he asks what the argument was about, and Kristina says, just Josslyn being Josslyn, complaining about her dad. He asks if Sonny did something wrong that they should know about, but Kristina says, nothing like that. It’s just that ever since Carly and her dad broke up, Josslyn totally turned on her dad and she’s always saying negative things about her dad whether they’re true or not. In this instance though, it turned out to be true. Molly says she’s sorry. But parents are human. Sometimes they disappoint us. TJ says, family is difficult. That’s one more reason to be careful. Kristina says, careful? and he says, about keeping her safe. Even if that means keeping her away from that side of her family. (Does he really think that suggestion will go over well?)
Aiden says he dropped off the cupcakes Elizabeth wanted for Amy’s birthday, and Elizabeth thanks him. She says, everybody is going to love them. What does she owe him? He says, they can settle at home. His free period’s almost over. He needs to head back to school. Tell Amy, happy birthday. She asks if he’s forgetting something, and he says, is he? She says, give his mom a hug? and he hugs her. She sees a pink smear on his backpack and asks, what is this? Why is there paint on his backpack?
Drew says, that’s why he wanted Curtis from the very beginning. He’s got experience in management, he has incredible talent for leadership, he has practical knowledge in the fitness industry. He’ll be able to tailor everything to meet their customers’ needs. He hands Curtis some paperwork, and says he really hopes Curtis considers being on board. Curtis says, this is? and Drew says, that’s the official offer. His proposed salary, stock options, benefits, a whole slew of perks, and of course (🍷) his stake in the company. Just take a look and let him know what he thinks. Curtis says he’ll do that – Nina approaches the office – but it’s going to be a huge change to his life. Drew says he gets that. It’s going to be a huge change for Aurora. That’s why he wants Curtis at the helm. There’s nobody he trusts more than Curtis to take charge. Nina says she completely agrees with that. Take charge of what?
Aiden tells Elizabeth, that happened in art class. He wasn’t looking where he put his backpack. Maybe it’ll wash out. She says, maybe, but that’s a lot of paint. He says, or he could switch backpacks, and she says, it reminds her of when he came home with paint in his hair, but he says, it’s art class. There’s a lot of paint. He tells her that he’s got to go and gets in the elevator. Elizabeth goes over to the desk, and Portia says, rumor has it that Aiden made cupcakes for Amy’s birthday, and Elizabeth says, yeah. Portia asks if Elizabeth not to tell her that they’re for nurses only, because she wants one. She knows what an excellent baker he is. Elizabeth says, yes, he is.
Natalia says, Allison told her about Kristina’s pregnancy. It’s a brave new world out there, isn’t it? Alexis says, it is, and it continues to be. Her daughter Molly was having fertility problems, really struggling to have a family, and Kristina wanted to help her out. They love each other and Alexis is very proud of that. Natalia says, of course (🍷) she’d be, but their choices present some complications for Kristina and Allison. Alexis asks, how so? and Natalia says, pregnancy in and of itself is a complication. It’s a disruption in a woman’s life, in a couple’s life. And that’s under the happiest of circumstances. Alexis says she was under the impression that Blaze was nothing but supportive, and Natalia says, she is, of course (🍷). That’s her Ally. (You know, it would help if everyone didn’t call Blaze a different name.) But there’s also public perception to consider. Alexis says she’s very happy to meet Natalia and she’s also glad Natalia came by, but she can see this might be more than a meet and greet. If there’s something on her mind, please feel free to share that. Natalia says she’s really glad Alexis is open to an honest discussion. She’s concerned for her daughter. She thinks she’s entitled to a private life, but as Blaze, that can’t happen. Alexis says, the cost of fame. Her point being? Natalia says, two women seen together, one of them pregnant, people are bound to ask whose baby it is and most people are going to assume that it’s theirs. (Huh? I can’t imagine even thinking about it that hard.) Alexis says she’s not sure why that would be anyone else’s business. Natalia says, Alexis runs a newspaper. She has a gossip column. If the girls are out and somebody shoots a picture of them in public and posts it, Alexis knows better than anybody that one photo can change somebody’s life. For better or for worse.
Kristina says, if TJ is referring to her father, she has no intention of staying away from him. She loves him very much and he always has her support. TJ says he understands that, but he also knows his Uncle Curtis was just shot from simply being in the same vicinity as Sonny, so he’s just suggesting she keep some distance during her pregnancy. Kristina says she made it crystal clear that this baby’s well-being is her top priority, and Molly says, she has, and they appreciate that. Kristina says she’s been eating healthy, she’s been taking her vitamins, staying hydrated. She’s been going to all of her doctor’s appointments. She even paused working at the Corinthos-Davis Center for this pregnancy. She’s taking extremely good care of herself and seeing her friends and her family is included in that. She doesn’t think separating herself from them is necessary or healthy. If they’ll excuse her, she has a full day ahead of her. She gets up, and Molly says, no, please don’t go, but Kristina says, no, really, she should get going. She would hate to have to rush and get home past her bedtime. Molly says. Kristina hasn’t finished her breakfast, and Kristina says she does know how to feed herself. She does manage a restaurant. She tells Molly, love you, and leaves. Molly tells TJ, really? What was that all about?
Drew says, he and Curtis were discussing an upcoming project, and Nina asks if that means Curtis would be joining the Aurora family. Drew says he’s working on it, and Curtis says, they just started discussing all the details. Nina says, that’s great. As he knows, you don’t just jump on the first offer. Drew is a very smooth negotiator. If they shake on anything, make sure he counts his fingers afterward. Drew says he hasn’t heard her complaining, and she flashes back to them getting busy. Nina says, well, he drives a hard bargain. She’s just giving her good friend some sound advice. Before he gets in bed with Drew, make sure he knows what he’s doing.
Lucy asks what Scotty is doing here, and he says he came to talk to Maxie. Lucy says, really? He doesn’t need an excuse if he really just wants to see her. Why don’t they go to her office, and they can watch a replay of her segment on Home & Heart? He says he doesn’t think that’s a good idea, but she says, it’s a great idea. She knows she did really well. It’s just that she thought maybe she could take notes on her performance so she can hone her craft a little bit. There’s always room for improvement. She’s been reading up on Marilyn Monroe. She studied with Lee Strasburg. The method acting technique says, you should infuse your own experiences to make the audience feel… Maxie says, the pitchwoman for Deception is not supposed to be acting. They’re supposed to be selling. And they do that by projecting sincerity and approachability. The audience needs to feel like this person is a friend whose recommendations they trust. So when the pitchwoman says, Deception’s Disruptor Nourishing Cream really refreshens your complexion, the audience believes them. And they buy the product. But the first thing the pitchwoman has to do is actually mention theproduct. Lucy says she agrees. Of course (🍷). That’s why she still thinks her name should be in the title of their new skin care line. Lucy’s Luminous Skin Serum or Lucy’s Luminous Luscious Lotion. Which one does she like? Maxie says she actually can’t, and tells Scotty, please stop this madness and just tell her. Lucy says, tell her what? and Scotty says, her appearance on the Home & Heart show, it was a disaster.
Lucy says, disaster? She was an unqualified success. Maxie says, it was a dumpster fire, and Scotty says, go easy on her. Maxie says, someone has to tell her the truth, and Lucy says, the truth is, she completely crushed it. She takes out her phone and says she has all the comments right here to prove it. Maxie says, Lucy talked about herself on live TV for a solid hour. She recapped her greatest successes, real and imaginary. She barely mentioned their product or Deception. She was clearly there to sell herself. Lucy says she is Deception. She created Deception and Deception’s her baby and their audience knows that. Maxie says, yes, she has a following, but that doesn’t automatically translate to sales. She was there to introduce their new face cream, not inflate her own ego. Lucy says, that’s just rude, but Maxie says, rude is trying to one-up Haven. Lucy says, Haven is jealous of her and can’t stand the competition, and Maxie says, Haven calls the shots. She wants sales, not self-promotion. Lucy says, exactly. And the bottom line is Haven is a businesswoman, and she will forget all the envy and anything about Lucy because the sales are skyrocketing and it’s because of her. Maxie asks what Scotty is doing. Tell her. Scotty says, all those skyrocketing sales… Lucy says, they are skyrocketing because of her, because the numbers do not lie. Maxie says, she’s right. The sales are great, but they’re not because of Lucy.
Curtis says, Drew has given him a lot to think about. So if Drew will excuse him, he’ll get to it. Drew says he looks forward to hearing from Curtis and they shake hands. Curtis counts his fingers says, meanwhile, the two of them play nice, and leaves. Nina says, Curtis is her friend, and Drew says, his too. Nina tells him, so he says. Curtis is just getting back on his feet. She doesn’t want Drew to take advantage of him. Drew says he’s not taking advantage of him. He’s offering Curtis an opportunity that benefits both of them. Nina says, it’s a wonder how Drew can keep all these plates spinning in the air without dropping one of them, and he says he guesses it’s just a talent of his. What did she want to see him about? She says, her daughter. She didn’t get a chance to ask why Michael and Willow were in his office yesterday before that lapse of sanity overtook them again. He says, lapse of sanity. Is that what they’re calling it? She says she really wants to know. Why was Willow here?
Portia asks if everything is okay, but Elizabeth says, she’s not sure. Aiden had pink paint on his backpack. He said he just set it down in the wrong place, but it looked like somebody deliberately did it to him. (Actually, it looked more like he brushed up against something.) And last week, he came home with paint in his hair. It wasn’t a lot, but it definitely looked like somebody flicked a paintbrush at him on purpose. Portia says, and she’s worried about bullying, and Elizabeth says, yeah. This happened before when he was younger. The thought has definitely crossed her mind, but whatever is happening, he thinks he just wants to handle it himself. Portia says, yeah, but sometimes their kids think they can handle it themselves, but they can’t really. Elizabeth says she doesn’t want to hover, and Portia says she gets that. She hates that term helicopter mom. It makes you feel like you’re second guessing yourself when you’re concerned or involved in your children’s lives. Elziabeth says, there’s being concerned and there’s wanting to control your son’s life, and she doesn’t know where this falls on the spectrum. Portia says, maybe Elizabeth could chat with his counselor. Talk to his teachers. See what they know, what they don’t know. They see so much more than we do sometimes. At the end of the day, they just want what’s best for their kids, right?
TJ asks Molly to talk to him, and she says, he doesn’t want to hear what she’s thinking right now. He says he gets that she’s angry, and she says she’s frustrated and disappointed, and she can’t for the life of her understand what he thought he was doing coming for Kristina like that. He says he was thinking of their baby’s well-being and Kristina’s too. He commends her for living a healthy lifestyle and following the guidelines, but is it not common sense to want to stay out of the line of fire? She says, believe her. She has no illusions about Sonny, but he’s highly unlikely to put his pregnant daughter at risk. He says, tell that to his Uncle Curtis. Things happen. She says, okay, but let’s have a sense of proportion. She can’t ask her sister to stay away from her father. He says he just did, and she says, he saw how well that went. He says he expected pushback and he’s not sorry he tried. And that’s not going to stop him from speaking his mind to the woman carrying their child, even if she’s the daughter of a dangerous man.
Alexis tells Natalia, as a now responsible journalist, she doesn’t really approve of policing social media sites. She thinks people have the right to think and say whatever they want, regardless of how despicable or ridiculous it is, as long as it’s within the law. Natalia says, that’s commendable, as a journalist. What about as a mother? Alexis says she would hate to see Kristina or Blaze dragged through the mud. That would be painful to see. On the other hand, she didn’t raise a shrinking violet and she’s pretty sure Natalia didn’t either, so she’s confident they’d be able to weather whatever came at them. Natalia says, that’s very supportive and sane, albeit a little idealistic. She’s just sort of a pragmatist, and she can’t help but realize that the fallout for Allison would be a lot different than for Kristina. Alexis says, how so? and Natalia says, isn’t it obvious? Allison is a star with a huge fanbase and following, and Kristina is a… bartender.
Alexis says, if Natalia has an issue with Blaze’s public persona, then that is something she should probably take up with her daughter. She doesn’t really see how she can help her. Natalia says, please understand, she’s not disparaging Kristina, and Alexis thanks her so much for coming by, but she runs a newspaper and she’s getting a lot of calls coming in while they’re having this conversation. You never know when it’s going to be breaking news. So again, she thanks Natalia so much and appreciates her stopping by. Natalia says she’s really glad they got a chance to finally meet, and Alexis says, it’s always good to put a face to the person. Natalia tells her, have a nice day, and leaves. Alexis makes a call and says, how dare Diane not be there when she needs to vent? She just met Blaze’s mother and it wasn’t pretty.
Molly tells TJ that Kristina is doing something incredibly generous for them. She’s giving up nine months of her life to give them a child. The last they can do is not police her every move. He says he doesn’t like how she’s making him out to be some kind of control freak, and she asks, what else he would call the constant questioning about what Kristina eats, how much she’s sleeping, and whether she can see her father until after her delivery date? He says, fine. If wanting the best for their baby makes him a control freak, he’ll wear that as a badge of pride. (I’m thinking now would be the perfect time to throw a pie in his face.) She says, be proud of himself. Just lay off Kristina. He says he doesn’t think it’s unreasonable to want her to stay physically safe, and Molly says, it is if he drives her away. He says, if it does, then that’s on her, not on him. He understands Kristina is hormonal, but taking off in a huff just because they’re asking questions? He’s a doctor. She says, yes, but he’s not Kristina’s doctor. He’s not even the baby’s doctor. If there were concerns, Dr. Navarro would have raised them, but she hasn’t. He says, Dr. Navarro is only evaluating Kristina based on what she sees in front of her. She’s not factoring in Kristina’s connection to Sonny. Molly says, and that’s a good thing. Because Kristina has somewhere she can feel safe, not judged. He says he’s not judging her, and she says, isn’t he? He says, they’re supposed to be in this together, all three of them. They should have some say in how Kristina is living her life. It’s their baby. She says she knows this, but it is Kristina’s life. They can’t monitor her every move. He says, because she’s Molly’s sister. If they’d gone with a surrogate, in a few months from now, they’d have their baby with no strings attached, but now they… She says, no, go on. Say it. Now they’ll never get rid of her?
Portia meets Curtis at the MetroCourt and says, not that she’s complaining, but why did she have to drop everything and meet him here? All his text said was, it’s nothing bad. They sit at a table, and he says, aside from wanting to see his beautiful wife, he has a major decision, and he needs her to weigh in. She asks, what kind of decision? and he says, The Savoy’s been doing really well and he’s thinking about diversifying. She says, like a franchise or making it a brand? but he says, The Savoy is unique, and he wants to keep it that way, but it does involve branding. He and Drew have been talking about him wanting to move Aurora into fitness and wellness. So Drew is starting a new division and wants him to head that division. Portia says she guesses she wasn’t expecting anything like that. Wow. He says, they had a preliminary meeting a few weeks ago and he just now confirmed they’re moving on and Drew wants him in charge. This is the kind of opportunity that only happens once. What does she think? Should he go for it?
Nina says, okay. Drew wants Willow to go public with her medical history. She doesn’t know if that’s a great idea. He says, she’d be talking about her leukemia and her lifesaving transplant. It could help a lot of people. She says, and Aurora is involved in this why? and he asks if she thinks he’s making money off of this. She’s wrong. He’s working with a non-profit who finds donor matches for stem cells and bone marrow. Willow’s story is so inspirational. She’d make such a great spokesperson. She could jump start the whole project. She says, and he presented all of this to Willow like that, and he says, absolutely. And he made it very clear that the ultimate decision is up to her. She says she can’t ask for more than that and thanks him. By the way, she’s rescheduled her interview with Congressman McConkey for this afternoon if he’s still interested in tagging along. He says he is, and not as her chauffeur. He’d like to meet the Congressman and have a chance to talk to him. She says, that’s what she’s offering, and he says, why so accommodating all of a sudden? What’s in it for her?
Portia says she appreciates Curtis for including her, but she’s not sure. The Savoy was his dream, but he seems really excited about this new endeavor, so she really doesn’t know if she should influence him either way. He says he’d still love her opinion, and she says, okay. He’s just now finally recovering, right? He’s literally getting back on his feet. And between the club and Aurora, she just thinks he’s taking on way too much way too soon. He says, the club doesn’t need his full-time attention anymore. The Savoy survived for months after he was shot and in recovery. He’s lucky to have a great staff. N’neka is an absolute rock star, and he’s been getting great help from his dad, chatting it up with the crowd and the musicians. Curtis knows how much he loves that. She says, that’s kind of her point. The Savoy was his dream, and he feels comfortable leaving it in other people’s hands. He says, it’s not like he’s never going to set foot in that place again, and she says, but he’ll have to split his time between the club and Aurora. He says he’ll build time in his schedule to make sure The Savoy remains on track, and she asks if he thinks Selina Wu is going to respect his schedule. Because she thinks Selina still wants to take The Savoy. And what if she uses his absence to make her move?
Lucy says, her social media blew up after she was on H&H, and Maxie says, cyberbuddies and heart emojis don’t translate into cold, hard cash. And speaking of cold, hard cash, when Lucy was on camera, they were way under their minimum of 300 units per minute, but as soon as Sasha stepped in, they were hitting 650 per minute and on their way to selling out. Lucy says, that’s because she laid the foundation and her audience just waited until she was off the screen to start buying. Maxie says, that doesn’t make any sense. Why would her fans wait until she was finished to buy the product? Lucy says, obviously because they were enthralled, spellbound by her narrative. It’s a pretty incredible story, her long, hard road to success. They listened. Maxie says, let’s say there were 1000 diehard Lucy fans that were hanging on her every word. There were 10,000 audience members who were waiting to change the channel until Sasha stepped in and saved her bacon. Lucy says, so Maxie is giving Sasha credit for all her sales. They were her sales. She looks at Scotty and says, tell her. Tell Maxie they were her sales. Tell her. Scotty says, humma, humma, humma, Lucy, and she says, don’t humma-hum Lucy nothing. He was there. He felt the positive energy in the room. She had all those people eating out of the palm of her hand. They couldn’t wait to buy. Scotty says, actually, they did wait. They waited until Sasha showed up.
TJ takes Molly’s hands and says he’d never want to get rid of Kristina. That’s impossible. That’s her sister. His only problem is all the baggage that comes with her. She says, believe it or not, she understands his concerns. Sonny being Kristina’s father and the fact that she may end up prosecuting him, does he know how much she’s dreading that possibility? He says, probably as much as he dreads the idea of their child’s biological grandfather being a mob boss. It’s not all about Sonny. He has his concerns about Kristina too. She says, he knows she had her hesitations at first. But she and Kristina came to an understanding, and she thought that he did too. That’s why they accepted Kristina’s offer to be their surrogate, and she genuinely wants to help. She has said from the very beginning, she will be Aunt Kristina to their child the same way she is to Danny and Scout. He says, but she didn’t carry and give birth to Danny and Scout. There’s a big difference. How long before she’s second guessing them? (Not long if he doesn’t knock it off.) Judging their parenting styles and inserting herself into their lives? She says, Kristina has her own life. She has two jobs and a new girlfriend. He asks if she doesn’t think that could change with her being pregnant, and Molly says, of course (🍷) she’ll reach a point where she’s got to slow down, but he says he’s talking about Kristina. Everyone keeps telling him what a beautiful gift Kristina is giving them, but that gift comes with a cost. Kristina is more than a surrogate. She’s biologically and emotionally invested. Tell him that she can see how potentially difficult this is. She says she understands, but she’s still choosing to be hopeful. She’s seen Kristina really come into her own these past few years. She’s changed. For the better. He says he guesses they’ll see. They have no choice at this point.
Kristina walks into Alexis’s office, and Alexis asks, what brings her here? Kristina says, to see her mom, and Alexis goes over to her, saying, oh, oh, oh. What’s going on? Is she okay? They hug, and Kristina says she came from Molly and TJ’s place, and apparently, she’s doing this entire pregnancy wrong. The wrong diet, the wrong sleep schedule, the wrong everything. Alexis says, it can’t be that bad, but Kristina says, no, it is that bad. It’s worse actually. They think her dad is a physical danger and they want her to keep her distance from him. She’s sorry, but she’s not going to do that. She’s not going to abandon her dad, especially not now, especially when he needs her. He’s pushing everyone away from him, everyone except for Ava, who is camped out in his living room. Alexis says, got it. Breathe. Kristina takes a deep breath, and Alexis says, have a seat. She’s going through a lot. Internally, externally, the hormones are at work. They’re working for the baby and they’re working for Kristina’s hair, she might add. And she’s emotional. TJ and Molly are also emotional. She’s sure they meant well. Would Kristina like her to talk to them? Kristina says, yes, she would. She feels something and cringes, clutching her stomach, and says, guess who just woke up? Alexis says, the baby, and Kristina says, they can really stretch out and then, pow. Alexis says, that’s what they do, and Kristina says, that hurt. Her baby has a real kick. She gets up.
Alexis sits in Kristina’s chair, while Kristina stands in front of her. Alexis feels Kristina’s bump and says, whoa. She wasn’t kidding. Kristina says, funny. It was so nice when it was little butterflies and flutters. Now it’s a totally different ballgame. It’s like a soccer game. Alexis says, Kristina was just like that. She kicked so hard, Alexis thought she was going to leave bruises. Kristina says, really? Maybe the baby takes after her.
Molly tells TJ, it’s a little late for buyer’s remorse. They made a decision to trust her sister, and she for one intends to do that. She’s got to go. She’s got a deposition. He says he doesn’t want to fight. It’s just the two of them, right? He wants this to be the best thing that’s ever happened to them. She says, her too. You, me, and baby makes three, right? They kiss and she leaves for work, but neither of them look like this is the best thing ever.
The reception nurse says, if Elizabeth wants one of the cupcakes, she’d better get to the breakroom, because they’re going fast. And Amy said to be sure and thank her son. What a sweetheart. Elizabeth thanks her and says she will. The nurse leaves and Elizabeth goes behind the desk. She makes a call and asks for the counselor’s office… This is Aiden Webber’s mom. She needs to make an appointment.
Scotty tells Lucy that he’s sorry, but the numbers don’t lie. Maxie says she knows Lucy gives Deception her all. Maybe at times, too much of her all, but she’s not trying to minimize Lucy’s commitment to Deception or her accomplishments. She’s just trying to remind Lucy that Deception is not only hers. It’s not only Maxie’s. It’s not only Brook’s or Sasha’s or Tracy’s, for that matter. They’re all rooting for it to succeed. But in order to gain success, they have to sell, and she’s the wrong salesperson. Lucy shrugs and says, okay. But what Maxie is forgetting is, they don’t have Sasha and Blaze’s uber controlling mommy won’t let Blaze pitch, so she’s all they’ve got. There is nobody else. Maxie says, well, there is one other person.
Curtis tells Portia, there will be no more threats from Selina Wu. He handled it. She says she guesses the only real decision now is how he’s going to split his time and his focus. This is going to be a major project. He says, no question, and she says, and travel. He says he’s in charge. He can set his own schedule. Are there any more objections? He holds out his hand, and she puts hers in it. She says, just one that she can think of. She’s going to miss him. She really enjoyed him being home, having him all to herself. He says, and he doesn’t want to be away too often or too far from her either, but he believes in this project. He knows he can make it happen and, in the process, build something lasting that he can be proud of. She asks, how she could say no to that? It looks like he made his decision.
Nina tells Drew, let’s just say, there’s a little something in it for everybody. He gets access to Congressman McConkey, and she gets access to her daughter. He says he sees. Quid pro quo. She says, giving something to get something makes more sense than them trying to sabotage each other. He says, so she wants to cooperate, but cooperation takes trust. She says she trusts him to see his advantage in all of this, and he says he can definitely see that. His phone rings and he says, Curtis. Curtis says he hopes he’s not interrupting, and Drew says, absolutely not. He’s always got time for Curtis. Curtis thanks him and says he reviewed Drew’s offer. Drew says, and are they doing this? and Curtis says he’s in.
Tomorrow, Willow tells Michael that she’s starting to wonder if she’s doing it for the wrong reasons; Lucy thinks maybe a screentest was in order; Tracy tells Sasha that after lunch, she has a request; and Brook asks someone to go easy on her.
🧴 A Little Bit Of Soap In Your Life…
The best Nikolas of all the Nikolases has a message.
Well, it was bound to happen. I just don’t get why people don’t use Uber or something if they’re going to drink. It’s not that hard. She’s lucky she didn’t kill someone.
TBH, I don’t remember her, but then again, I don’t remember most of the cast from the first one. Except for Richard Hatch and that truck driver. Susan?
Come on down tomorrow, or up depending on your location, for soap and shade in the House. Until then, stay safe, stay not throwing stones no matter what your house is made of, and stay not jumping on the first offer.
