Fear the Walking Dead

When we last left, Morgan had called Ginny asking for help.

Duane runs through the woods, and falls. He thinks he hears Shari on the radio, but he can’t really decipher what she said. He throws the radio, which is probably a bad idea. He finds the convoy, and tries Al’s van, but it’s locked tight. He hears something, and drops down behind the van, getting his gun ready. He sees horses legs, and draws his gun. He comes out, but there are only empty saddles. The horses just stand there, and he nuzzles one.

The opening credits feature a horse in the field. I hope they keep the credits this way next season. It’s been a fun little detail.

Morgan says he wasn’t sure Ginny was in range. She says now that they have Texas tea on tap, they’re always in range. She told him the future wasn’t across that bridge, but there’s no use crying over spilt milk. She asks where they are, and he says, Humbug’s Gulch. She says that was the biggest settlement she came across; 263 people in one spot. She tried to help them, but their crackpot leader was blind to realty, and made the wrong call. She’s glad they’re making the smart one. He says there’s room for all of them there. They just need help clearing the place. Ginny says, that place is beyond repair. Time for them to move on to greener pastures. He asks if she’s going to take everybody, and she says they take what insures the most survivors. He wants her word that they’ll be kept together, but she says, no can do. She’s putting them where she thinks they’ll do best. Morgan says he has to do right by everybody, and Ginny says right is for people who want to feel good, and can’t make the hard calls. She has 800+ people, and they’re thriving. How many does he have? He says, forty-one… no, forty. She says, sorry about Tom. She wonders if Morgan is finally ready to protect the future. Should she come and get them, or not? Everyone waits. The fence holding the zombies in, starts to give  little. Morgan says, yeah, and Ginny says they’ll be there by the end of the day. They won’t be together anymore, but they will be alive.

Morgan says he’s sorry, and walks off alone. He finds Grace sitting with June, and asks how Grace is doing. She says she’s been better. June says she did everything she could, and Grace thanks her. June says Grace did too, and leaves. Grace offers Morgan some candy beansies. She says, the guy she told Morgan about, the one at the plant. She told him how she felt because she was afraid they weren’t going to make it. They actually… She thinks the reason it happened, is that they knew it was the end. That’s why she didn’t want to let him tell her what he wanted to. He says they will see each other again, but she says, no; they won’t. For once, she knows how much time she has left. Until Virginia gets there. She’s not going to take Grace. She only cares about the future. Morgan says he won’t let that happen. She takes his hand, and says he might not have a choice.

Al flips through the videos. John telling June that he doesn’t want to wait. When they get to the Gulch, he wants to get married. Alicia painting a tree, and saying she hopes she keeps getting a chance to do this. Grace, saying she wants to be around long enough to see the looks on everyone’s faces when they get there. Al closes the camera. John asks June if she’s all right. She says she doesn’t want to be the person she was before she met him. He says she doesn’t need him to be her. June says she knows. She didn’t want any of this to happen. John says now they have something to fight for.

We hear horses. I’ll bet it’s Dwight. Yep, here he comes with the team. John says, well, look at you. Dwight says they can make it work. Al asks where he found them, and he says, roaming around what’s left of the convoy. Do they know what this means? If the horses are alive, there’s water nearby. They can make it work. They don’t need her.

They brace the fence with everything from garbage cans to pieces of wood. Alicia tells Victor that she’s not afraid anymore, and takes her weapon from him. Morgan asks Alicia what she’s doing, and Alicia says she found what she needed, and she’s not losing it. They’re not separating. She thinks they can clear this place. Dwight says the have to do it right. Zombies are beginning to reach through openings in the fence. Alicia thinks it will hold, and they can clear it. June says they have to try. Victor says they’ll need more than water. They’ll need food and medical supplies. Daniel says, Virginia isn’t walking away without a fight, but Dwight says, if they don’t fight, they’ll lose more than that. He is what he is because of how they think. John says they’re outnumbered and out-armed. Hamilton plays in my head. He says, if she comes with half the people she did before, it could get real messy real quick. They start axing zombies in the head, and put more things against the fence. Daniel says they’ll take care of the dead, then deal with Virginia. Morgan looks at a Wyoming, Y’all! billboard behind Daniel, and smiles. He says, maybe both at the same time. He tells John to get the horses, and tells Alicia to get everyone, and take them as far away as she can.

On horseback, Dwight, Victor, June, Daniel and Morgan with Grace sitting in front of him, lead the zombies away. Morgan says it’s not their intention to kill anyone. Just take what they need, and make Virginia understand not to bother them.

Al examines a downed zombie, and motions to the others. The Gulch is a real ghost town now, and the soundtrack has whistling like an old cowboy movie or something by Tarantino. Wes says the place is rough around the edges. Alicia says, it was the same with the stadium when her mom found it. They’ll rebuild it into something more. He said he needed a new medium, right? He nods.

Morgan says, all right. They can manage. He needed this. John tells June that he thinks it will work, and she says maybe they did bring everyone to the right place. John thinks they did, and says, when they get back, he’s going to make an honest woman of her. Dwight says, there it is. There’s a field where they can lead the zombies until it’s time. About a mile or so, there’s a river. Victor says there’s an access road; she’ll come from there. Morgan asks Victor and Daniel to keep watch, and they ride out. June thanks Dwight, who says they all do the  best they can. June tells him that Virginia might be able to take him to Shari. Dwight says when he was out on his own, he thought he heard Shari on the walkie. It could have been the heat, but he’d like think it was her guiding him to do the right thing. They don’t want someone like Virginia hanging over their heads. June asks if they’re ready, and they lead the zombie herd to the field.

The group at the Gulch checks out the church. Jacob says, it’s very Old Testament; they probably play the oldies there. Alicia tells Al, if the others need help, they’ll step in. Al tells everyone, she knows where the horses came from. She shows them some keys, and says, Virginia is more full of sh*t than they thought. Either I missed something, or the connection there is very cryptic.

Daniel tells Victor patience; and he uses the term loosely. Victor says they could be giving Virginia the upper hand. Daniel says they might be going too far, He hasn’t decided. Does Victor thinks they should give up and join Virginia? Victor thinks they should consider the opportunity. They should dissect what it means. It might not be as bad as they imagine. Daniel says she’s not giving them a choice, and that’s all they need to decide.

Morgan and the others wrangle and corral the zombies, riding the horses around the herd. Dwight doesn’t think they can keep it up much longer. John Shoots one that comes to close, and another that comes too close to June. He says, cattle are usually worried about us eating them. Morgan steers the horse around Grace, and she says, next time, maybe they can do this without training wheels. He says they’re going to do this.

Daniel and Victor see Ginny’s cars coming, and Victor whistles over the radio. Dwight says, it’s the signal. John rounds up some stragglers, and says, get them turned around. Dwight’s horse freaks a little.

Ginny sees the caravan trucks, and tells her guys, fuel them up. Luci gets out, and Daniel is like, damn. Victor looks, and says, oh my God. He whistles again, and June says, it’s the signal. Daniel tells them, call off the herd. Luciana is with them. John tells the others to turn around. Daniel asks what Victor is doing, and Victor says he’s heading back to tell them to arm up. He rides off, and my heart is in my throat. Dwight axes the zombies getting close to his horse. He’s surrounded and I can’t watch. Through my fingers, I see him jump off and out. I think, poor horse, and bastards! simultaneously. Dwight lies there for a moment, and takes off limping. The zombies follow.

Crap. Where’s everyone else? Dwight comes to some rapids, and says, sh*t. Zombies are coming, and John says they’ve got to get there first, or Dwight is done for. They tease the zombies, and shoot a few. Dwight looks for an opening. He tells the others to go back; he can handle himself. They’re like, no way, and ax more zombies in the head. Dwight says he knows what it’s like to live with someone who doesn’t believe the same things. He can’t let that happen to them. He runs, and Morgan asks if Grace wants to try it without training wheels. She take the reins, and he jumps down. He bangs his pokey stick on the ground to attract attention, then stabs, stomps, and pushes, flying through the herd. Dwight falls, and Morgan says he’s not leaving Dwight behind. He and Dwight take care of some stragglers. John leads the zombies into the water, past Morgan and Dwight, who are hiding in the bushes. I laugh as the zombies tumble down the rapids. Wheee! John, June, and Grace are on the other side, and the zombies are gone. Dwight says they can’t fight Virginia without the walkers. Morgan says if they don’t fight, she wins.

Al says, they didn’t die because they refused help; they died because they fought back. She killed them. That’s where the horses came from. If they fight her, they’ll die too. Wen says, maybe not if Victor is a smooth talker. Alicia says they have to hold on to what they have. Morgan radios, saying they’re outnumbered and out-gunned. Any chance they had, just went down the river. Al asks if they should give up, and Morgan says, make sure everyone survives. They did what they came to do. They helped lots of people. The only way it will mean something is if they stay alive. Dwight asks if they should just turn themselves in. Morgan says Virginia can take them wherever she wants. She can separate them, but she can’t make them forget what they did or who they are. Al says, it’s the end game, but Morgan says, not yet. There’s still time left. Alicia asks, for what? and he says, for them to live the way they said they were going to.

Wes and Alicia paint the church for June and John’s wedding. June thinks the dress is perfect, and John says he thought so too, when he found it in the costume shop. Dwight gives his and Shari’s wedding rings to John, telling him that he’s standing because of them. He doesn’t know what’s in store for his life, but he’s going to live it on his terms, and when he finds Shari, they’ll want a fresh start. They won’t need these. Jacob officiates. He asks if John takes June, and John says he loved her since the first day she washed up on his shore. June takes John, but when she puts the ring on his finger, it doesn’t fit. Charlie gives him something to string it on, and June tells him, don’t lose it, as she puts it over his head. June and John join hands. Jacob says they live in a broken world, but with each union, a piece is set right With pleasure, he pronounces them husband and wife. They kiss, and John breaks the glass per Jewish tradition. Jacob says, mazel tov!  Daniel and Grace sing, It’s All Right, while Charlie accompanies them on the guitar. Al films. Everyone marvels as the sun suddenly streams between the boards of the ceiling and walls. They hear the cars approach. Morgan says, this is it. The kids are gathered. John and June kiss.

They get ready. Morgan comes out, and Ginny says they tidied the place up. She’s heard some good chatter on the walkie, and Victor told her about the stunt they were trying to pull. She hopes they’re not thinking about one last hurrah. Morgan says, no. They asked for help; they’re going to take it.. Ginny says, good, and Morgan says, but she has to take all of them. That means Grace, the elderly, the sick, and injured. She has to give heath care to all of them, or none of them. She says he’s in no position to make demands. You don’t get sauce on the side at the soup kitchen. (Who does she think she is? Dr. Phil?) Morgan says she won. Let them win too. They’re all alive. Since she’s all about value, that should be priceless to her. Ginny says, anything else? He says the only way it will work is if they have a guarantee not to lose a single one. Otherwise, then they’ll both lose. They stare at each other.

Ginny looks perturbed, and finally says, goddammit. Fine. It’s worth saving a few bullets over. She says they have a long drive ahead. Adios yesterday; hello tomorrow. Morgan goes inside. Ginny smiles.

Luci says, it’s going to be okay. She gets in a truck, and it drives off. Al tells Ginny that her van can be a bitch. It breaks down more than you’d think, but she keeps it running. She asks why Ginny is doing this, and Ginny says, maybe it’s right. This can’t last. She takes Al’s camera, and says, that’s not a lie. Al will see she’s speaking the truth, and Ginny is going to make Al tell her what she knows about the about the helicopter. Sarah tells Wen that she’s never leaving anyone in the rear view again. She’s pushed into one of the cars. Victor tells Alicia that he needs to curry favor with Ginny. They’ll be fine. They can do more damage from the inside. A guy takes Alicia’s weapon, and Ginny says Alicia won’t need it. Daniel tells Ginny to remember who he is.

Charlie runs to Daniel, who tells her everything will be fine. He’ll find her. Charlie babbles a little, and he says she has to go. A guy puts Skidmark in the bed of a truck. Daniel says they travel together, and the guy says, not anymore. I call him all kinds of names, mostly using the f-word, and some I just made up.

Al gives June the tape of the wedding, saying they gave it to her, but June and John should have it. John tells June, they’ll find their way back to each other. She says she knows. They’re pulled away from each other, and June gives John the tape. John says he’s not sorry for a single moment, and tells June that he loves her as he’s pushed into a truck. June tries not to cry, and gets in another car. Morgan tells Grace that they’ll take care in way he can’t. Grace says, somehow, it doesn’t feel like the beginning of the end. Morgan doesn’t know what will happen to them, but when they were in the mall on the carousel, he felt something. It scared the hell out of him. He only felt that way one other time, with Jenny. Maybe this is different, maybe it’s the same with her, but it feels like it’s a possibility. Whatever happens, or wherever they end up, he needs her to know that. She says, okay. Ginny brings a man over, and says, he’s Doc Holt. He’s in family medicine, but did a rotation in oncology. She asks if this is what Morgan had in mind, and Morgan says he appreciates it. The doctor takes Grace’s arm, and she tells Morgan, she felt it too. She needs him know that. the doctor leads her to the car.

Morgan watches as the cars go. He walks over to Ginny. She says, ready? He asks where she’s taking him, and she says he gets to stay there. She has to protect the future by not repeating the past. She takes out a gun, and he says she doesn’t have to do this.. She says she does. Morgan whips his stick up, and knocks her in the head. He gets her good, but he’s shot near his shoulder. She struggles, but finally sits up. Morgan is having more difficulty, and tries to reach for his stick, but Ginny gets to it, and tosses it across the street. She stumbles over to a body, and takes a gun from it. Morgan crawls backward to a porch, and pulls himself up the steps. Ginny stands over him and cocks the gun. She says she resents his face so much, and shoots, but it’s a prop gun.

Ginny radios Doc Holt, and asks how sick Grace is. Morgan says, please, don’t hurt her, like begging would make a difference to this bitch. The doctor says, Grace isn’t sick; she’s pregnant. Ginny laughs, and asks how far along she is. The doctor says, it’s hard to tell; three or four months. She’s malnourished. She says she’ll meet him at the lodge. She tells Morgan, what they were doing had no future. She hopes he dies, but that’s not the point anymore. She hopes he heard her. She gets in her jeep, and drives away Morgan pulls himself inside the church.

On the radio, Morgan says if someone is listening, what they were doing wasn’t about just doing right. It was about the future. They fought for the future; they fought hard core. It was for her; for all of them. So if Grace is listening to him, live. A small crowd of zombies heads for the church. Morgan says, all of you, if you can hear me, just live. The zombies get closer.

💬 One question. Wouldn’t zombies get weaker as time went on, and they kept losing their parts and such? Just a thought. Even though I didn’t catch the whole show, it was great to see Talking Dead back again. I don’t know if it means anything, but Lennie James (Morgan) was not a guest. So does that mean he’s not dead? I went through so many emotions with this finale. There was horror, sadness, and even humor. Ultimately, I was left angry, but also looking forward to the next installment.

😞 It was also the season finale of Preacher tonight, and the end of the series. What a shame. I haven’t been able to keep up with it as much as I would have liked, but it was a fun show. IMO, it was also the show that most looked like a graphic novel.. Adios, Padre.

Fear the Walking Dead

A video plays, similar to the one Al made, but it’s Ginny’s group. Tom says they got lucky. Then they got unlucky. The worst was when went things went bad. They couldn’t grow food. Another guy says, they lost so much. A third says, they needed help. The story goes on, switching between various people. They were ready to split when she showed up. Everything changed. They built something bigger and better. We’re alive because of them – because of her. Ginny says it’s not about her, or any single person. It’s about how they get from today to tomorrow. She talks about going to settlement after settlement, places filled with good people, and good ideas. They needed help. A guy says they fixed water the supply and helped them grow food. Before, they were barely surviving. Now, they’re thriving. Ginny says they’re building a future every day. Each one holds a key; that’s why they wear these. Ginny shows a key pinned to her lapel. She says, it’s not about how her group helps them; it’s about how they help each other. They fix what’s broken. The world gives people every reason to doubt helping each other, but they can. So if they see someone wearing a hat like hers, or a pin, they’re here to help. They can be reached on channel five on the walkie. Each of them holds a key to more help, and more future. Al says, that’s not the truth, and smashes the TV. The opening titles are seen through a cracked screen.

June says they’ve been driving five days; it’s tough. Al says she’s making another video to show everything. She begins filming. Morgan says, it isn’t easy; it’s hard. It’s not supposed to be easy. Alicia says it imparts the way they’re doing things, and Dwight says, the right way. June says one tank of gas can get them through tomorrow. Wen says, Luci stayed, but they’re going to get her back. Sarah says Ginny told them what they’re trying to do is impossible. Tom says they’re going to make the impossible possible. Al says they don’t have to make a fake documentary to prove them wrong. This is how they did it. This is the truth.

Grace gets intravenous something, and thanks Morgan. He asks if he can get her anything else. She tells him, candy beansies, if he sees them. June says Grace is dehydrated, and it’s hard for her to keep food down. Al asks if June thinks it’s the radiation, and June says, it could be, or it could be something else. She needs to find some medical journals .

Morgan says he wasn’t there when she needed him. He wasn’t there when the rest of the world needed him in Tanktown. He’s here now. Al says he told her that he needed to let Grace know something; did he? He says, no. It doesn’t matter. Grace thinks she has an idea, but she’s not sure if it’s just what she wanted them to say. Morgan says, being away from everyone was hard, but good came out of it. Tom says he thought they’d kill him when they  found him. Virginia was scared to trust people, but here he is. He guesses he’s lucky. He flashes back to seeing Janice coming up the road toward him. He says, they found his sister. Janice says, they found her brother. They found him. Tom says he wanted to help with the documentary. What they’re doing is working. What they’re doing has room for everyone – not just who Virginia deems useful. Everyone is useful. People need to see that.

Alicia paints a tree, and Al asks what she’s going to do when they find a home. She hopes she gets the chance keep doing this. When she first started, she’d hoped to find the artist, but it helped her. It’s how she wanted to be. Art makes sense to her. It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Daniel radios from the strip mall, and June asks how the school is. He says, it burned down. There’s nothing left. On the video, June says she wasn’t thinking of anything except making sure they landed, and she picked the right direction. It felt right. Jacob says she has what some people spend their whole lives looking for. Wes says, he thought it was bullsh*t. He’s now part of said bullsh*t, and it turns out, it’s not bullsh*t. Al asks if he’s going to paint again. He says, we’ll see, and looks at Alicia painting a tree.

Grace teaches Charlie the guitar. On the video, she says she wants to be around long enough to see it. The look on everyone’s  faces when they get there. She wants to know everyone is going to be okay.

Morgan asks Grace if she has enough for one more push. John says they may have to leave some of the vehicles behind. Victor wonders if maybe they shouldn’t change direction. There’s nothing out there. Tom tells Al that she might want to turn the camera off. She might not want to document this. Al says she wants to show things as they are. Morgan says, breach, and Dwight kills a zombie that’s invaded their space. He takes something off of the body, and says, look at this.

On the video, Alicia says, sometimes the universe has a way of speaking to you. It’s a Sheriff’s badge, and John says, it’s from the Gulch. Maybe it’s closer than they thought. It was designed to operate without gas or electricity, and there’s a fence around the perimeter. Victor says John doesn’t know what it’s like; he hasn’t been there in years. Morgan says they’ve exhausted everything that’s in the area. If John is right, this will work. On the video, Dwight says, they saved his life before Maybe lightening can strike twice. June feels like it’s the right place, and Alicia says she thinks they found it. Daniel asks if it has a barbershop. Morgan says, if it’s what John says it is, it’s worth it.

Grace yells for June. Morgan runs toward the truck where Grace is resting. Tom is inside with her, and moves out of the way. June checks the pulse on her neck, and asks if Grace can hear her. She tells Morgan, Grace is severely dehydrated, her blood pressure is low, and she needs more fluids. Morgan says, or what? and June says they need to get moving.

Al films, and Daniel says he thought they should take everything they could at the mall. June says she thought she could help treat Grace, if she knew what was going on. She doesn’t even know what to do. She can treat the symptoms; it’s all she knows. Morgan asks how long Grace can go without fluids, and June says, not long. He tests the radio, and says they’ll circle back to the convoy, and get what they need. Sarah says it’s a detour, but there’s a shortcut further north. Morgan says Grace will want to see it. Tom says, this is the part you wouldn’t see on Virginia’s tape. It’s the part you never do.

John and Morgan look through stuff in a storage area. Morgan radios June and Alicia, and says, any luck? But Alicia and June are empty-handed on their end. Morgan thinks they shouldn’t have left, but John says it will be all right. Keep looking. Back with the others, John asks June if Morgan and Grace have something going on, but she’s not sure; maybe. He says, it’s a bittersweet thing, and she tells him, go ahead and ask. He says, okay. He doesn’t want wait anymore to get married at the Gulch, right away. June thinks it’s a great idea. John says he loves her, but keep it under her hat.

John radios Al, and asks how it’s looking, and Al says, got it. She tries to stab an errant zombie who gets the better of her, and they fall to the ground. Alicia nails it from behind. She picks up the fluids they’ve gotten for Grace, and smiles. On camera, Alicia says, it was the only thing she had, and it was taking over. Now it’s not the only thing she has. Morgan asks Grace how she feels, and she says, better. She thanks him, and they smile at each other. She asks, what is it? and he says he’s just glad she’s feeling better.

Sarah says they’ll take the shortcut back in the truck. Ginny can suck it. They made a detour because one person was sick. What they’re building is the future. At least he future they want to be a part of. Wen says, it was a risk. So were Christmas lights on the runway. John says, they were as good as dead, but they didn’t give up. Wes says, they risked their lives. Sarah radios that the bridge it out.

At the bridge, Charlie films. Part of the bridge is breaking down. Alicia says, the semi is too heavy, and Victor says he’s not so sure they should even be standing there. Morgan says they can leave the tanker behind, but John says they’ll never get to the Gulch. Morgan says they’ve got to figure out how to patch the hole. A cable on the bridge snaps. John yells, get off the bridge, and Morgan says, don’t back the tanker up. The bridge starts to give a little. Morgan thinks they should try to cross with one person every twenty feet. Dwight says they have company. Ginny drives up, with her entourage, and says it looks like they could use a hand. Guns are drawn.

Ginny asks if they’re having trouble with the tanker, but Morgan says it’s nothing they can’t handle. He sees they’re making good use of the gas, and Ginny says, it beats saddle sores. She tells everyone to put their guns down. If she’d wanted them dead, they would be dead. She says hi to Tom, and Al says he’s helping them get the story. Ginny asks, which story? He says where she gets her ass handed to her by them. The people need to know the truth. Ginny says, there’s truth and there’s truth. She hopes he picks the one that leaves the most people alive. Morgan asks how she knew where they were, and she says she’s had her eye on the convoy. They could learn something from each other. Morgan and his group have stretched the petrol farther than she thought possible. Then they went out of their way to get medicine, when people are dying. She can’t help if they don’t ask. Victor asks what she means by help, and she says, it means something different to everyone. Victor says, like what? Lay her cards on the table. She says she’s sorted out who provides what, and they need good people; there aren’t many left. Tom asks why she tried to kill him, and she says he became a liability. She’s not going to apologize for her methods, not when she gets results. She tells Dwight that she checked on his wife. He cocks his gun, but then lowers it. She says an engineer she met said he broke bread with Shari. She seemed worried about him. Morgan says, stop, and Ginny says Dwight never said her name. How else would she know it? Morgan says they’re here because they do things different from her. They’re going to keep doing to keep people alive. Ginny says, not much longer. They both want the same thing, they just have different ways of getting there. If anyone wants to try the way it works, they’re welcome. Morgan says, she’s right. If anyone would rather be with her, they should go now. There are no takers, and Dwight says he thinks the choice is pretty clear. Ginny says he has a good hold on them. Victor laughs, and says her strategy of following them isn’t particularly efficient. Ginny says, it’s not? Boys… Her henchmen shoot in the air, and she says it’s like calling the kids to dinner. There’s a herd down the road, and they might be the soup de jour. When they need her help, give a holler. I’m thinking her recruitment tactics aren’t the greatest.

Morgan says, get ready to cross. Everyone, out of the cars now. Said zombie herd starts coming toward them, Morgan says they’ll buy as much time as they can. Everyone grabs stuff out of the cars, and runs. Victor slices and dices. Morgan whacks the zombies with his new and improved pokey stick, and Al stabs whatever she can. The zombies barrel right through the line of cars. Dwight encourages the group to run. Morgan yells for them to get over the bridge. He asks how they’re doing with the patch, but Tom says, it’s not ready yet. Morgan tells Tom, forget it, just go, and another cable snaps. Morgan asks if they can get the tanker over the patch, but that’s a no, so they leave the truck. Tom refuses to go, and gets knocked down when the hole opens up more. The zombies fall through the bridge. I laugh, but then there goes the tanker. Tom jets to join the others, but he stops, saying, he has this. Cables snap as he’s talking, and he’s last seen on camera, screaming as he falls.

Back at the convoy, Al is editing, but the battery dies. Morgan says, it’s okay, but she says she has to get this right, for them; for him. Morgan says, then that’s what they’ll do. It’s not the end of the road. He won’t let it be. They go outside, where everyone else is waiting, sitting in front of the C&L boxcar. Morgan asks if Grace can walk. She says Tom died for the detour; for her. Janice looks in the water. Jacob asks if she wants him to say a few words, but she says, not here.

They stand in the woods. Morgan says Tom believed their story wasn’t over, and wanted to be with people who do what they did for one of their own. And he wanted Ginny to know that. Right, Janice? Janice says, he told her that he wanted to finish it, and Morgan says, then that’s what they should do. Right, everyone? They all nod, and he says, let’s go. He tells Alicia, it’s not going to be easy. They start to walk.

And walk… and walk. Wes tells Alicia, he’s been thinking when they get there, he’ll paint with her. It doesn’t have to be trees. He might need a new medium. She smiles. They walk some more. John approaches Jacob, and asks if it’s a good time for a question. Jacob says, it depends on the question. John asks if he does weddings, and Jacob says, gentiles? He’s always wanted to try one. Morgan asks if he just heard what he thought he heard. John says, it’s going to be a quiet affair, and June says she doesn’t want to make a big deal. Morgan thinks it might be what everyone needs. It will remind them why they’re doing this thing. John says if Morgan’s not busy, he needs a best man. The continue to walk. The road looks endless.

Dwight asks if Al is still filming. She says, as long as there’s a story to tell. Daniel says he doesn’t know Morgan that well, but hear him out. We don’t know how long we have in the world. If we have things to say, we should say them. They stop a moment, and Janice asks if Al is getting this. Al says, you bet she is. They see the billboard for Humbug’s Gulch. Janice says she wants Ginny to see this. See why she lost. I’m worried that it’s not going to be there anymore. Morgan tells Grace, good. One last push. He wanted to say… She tells him, don’t say it. It will make things harder. They look at each other. He he nods, and says he’s glad she’s here to see this. She says, her too, and squeezes his arm.

They finally make it, but it’s as I feared. Sort of. Al takes out the camera. Zombies have invaded the Gulch. Janice says, it can’t be. Maybe it’s the wrong place. John looks through the binoculars, and says they’re up against every gate. They’d be hard pressed to even get inside. Morgan says, they’ll find another way. Victor says, how? They have no food, no water, and their supplies are on the other side of the bridge. June says, there’s nothing else out here, but Jacob tells her that her faith got her this far. She says she needs more faith, and Alicia says they can’t give up. Charlie says they can walk back to the cars, but Wes says they’ll never make it. Daniel says they barely made it here, and Wen says, even if they could, there’s no gas for the cars. Victor says there’s one thing they can do. Al turns the camera off, and Victor asks, why? She wants people to see things the way they are. He does, and now she sees them the way he does. They got to somewhere; here they are. He reminds her there are children with them. The truth is, if they do this, they can live for tomorrow. Morgan ask if anybody can think of something else. Say it now.

Al says she thought this wasn’t going to be the end of the story, but it is. She knows what it means. Dwight says if they call her, there’s no going back. Al says, people are going to die, and Victor says they tried a different way. They can look at themselves in the mirror tomorrow. Dwight says, if they throw in with her, there might not be a tomorrow. He starts to leave, and Morgan tells him, don’t go. They’re miles from anything. Dwight says he’s walked this far before. June says she’s sorry, but John says it’s not her fault. They all thought it was a good idea. Al says, if they’re going to do this, then they should do it. Morgan tells Janice that he really is sorry. I say, don’t do this, but he radios, saying if Virginia is listening, they need her help. The camera pans out, and we see them clustered together on top of the hill.

Next time, Al thinks they can clear the Gulch, John says they have something to fight for, and Daniel says Ginny isn’t walking away without a fight.

General Hospital

Elizabeth is about to knock on Kim’s door, when Kim opens it halfway. Franco tells Kim, there’s no point in dragging things out. There’s nothing there for him, and there’s nothing there for her. It’s not easy, but they’ll make up for the time they lost. They kiss. Elizabeth sees, and Franco locks eyes with her. Why he opened them while he’s kissing Kim, I have no clue.

Sitting outside Kelly’s, Cameron tells Josslyn that he doesn’t know why they look at the menu, and she says, they know it by heart. He says he’s surprised she wanted him to meet her. He thought she’d be at volleyball practice. She says she can afford to miss a practice; she has plenty of time to make it up. The second she steps on the court, all she’ll be thinking about is serving, and setting up the next shot. Cameron asks if that isn’t the point, and she says, it’s supposed to be, but she’s supposed to be thinking about Oscar.

Inside Kelly’s, Dustin calls Lulu, who’s at the MetroCourt. She says she didn’t expect to hear from him. He says he thought they had a great time. She says, it was eventful. He says, aside from her mom… but she asks, how is it that he doesn’t see that’s not the only glaring thing? and don’t say it’s because he only has eyes for her. He says, okay, he won’t, but it’s true. He asks if she wants to get together this weekend. She says, maybe. She’ll text him, and let him know. Maxie joins her, and  asks if she was on the phone with hot Dustin. Lulu says she was, and Maxie sits and says, tell her everything.

Jason meets Sonny at the bar. Sonny asks if there’s been any word on Drew, but Jason says, nothing new. Sonny says, this is a big mistake, and hurt a lot of people. Andre being stabbed, and Drew’s plane going down; someone wants to take them both out. Jason says Drew wasn’t as lucky as Andre. Andre was able to sketch the guy who attacked him. Does he look familiar? He shows Sonny a picture on his phone.

The guy in the sketch wanders around the docks. Peter meets him, and gives him an envelope. The guy looks inside, and says it isn’t the fee they agreed on. Peter says he only completed half the assignment. The guy says he can stick around and finish the job, but Peter says, it’s too risky. He’ll have to find another way.

Sonny tells Jason that he’s never seen the guy. Has Jason? Jason says not that he remembers. Shiloh calls Jason, and says he has important information for him.

Elizabeth says Chase told her Franco was there. No more ankle monitor. He says he’s a free man. Elizabeth says that’s what she was afraid of, and apparently, she had a right to be so. He’s leaving? Franco says he’s sorry she’s in pain. He’s sorry she lost man the man she so obviously loves. She says, her husband. He says he’s sorry he’s not that guy. The only solution that will make it bearable for everyone is if he goes. Elizabeth asks if he thinks this is bearable. He doesn’t know what to say, and tells Kim that he’ll be at Pier 55 at 10 pm. He leaves. I tell Elizabeth to punch Kim out now, while no one is around. Instead, she says they need to talk.

Lulu says, there’s nothing to tell, and Maxie says she’s a liar. Spill. What did he say? Did he ask her out? Did she say yes? She should go, and get her feet wet. Not all the way, but she can wade in. He’s a super good-looking, super nice guy. She asks if Lulu remembers the butterflies from a first kiss, and whatever else that follows. Lulu says she’s going to stop Maxie there. They had a first kiss, and whatever else. Maxie asks what Lulu is talking about, and Lulu says she and Dustin had sex today.

Dustin reads Josslyn’s English paper.

Josslyn tells Cameron that she had a talk with her brother. It was mostly him talking to her, but he made sense. Oscar would want her to move on. He told her himself, and she will sometime soon, but it has to feel right. Everything is about the future, picking colleges and making out applications; it’s all anyone is talking about. The more absorbed she gets it that, the more removed she is, and leaving Oscar behind. Cameron asks if that isn’t the point of moving on. Josslyn says she will, and he says, just not today. She says she wants to grieve a little longer; Oscar deserves it. She says, and this where he tells her what’s going on with him. He says he’s fine, but Josslyn says, he’s not. What’s up?

Peter tells sketch guy that he can’t risk it. Now Franco knows. He needed Andre killed. Sketch guy says he wasn’t prepared for the target to be skilled in self-defense. Peter says he should have been prepared. In light of his track record, Peter is giving him 70%, rather than 50%. He tells sketch guy to go.

Jason asks what Shiloh wants, and Shiloh says his trial starts tomorrow. He’s looking forward to seeing Sam on the stand. Jason asks again what he wants. Shiloh tells him to check out The Invader. They did a piece on him, and Peter greenlighted the piece. He thought Jason would be interested. Jason hangs up, and Sonny asks what that was about. Jason says Shiloh is trying to tell him something about Peter.

Elizabeth asks if she can come in, but Kim doesn’t think Elizabeth wants to do this right now. Elizabeth says her husband just informed her that he’s leaving town and wants Kim to go with him. She thinks they need to do this now. She comes in, and sees the pillows and blanket on the floor, and says, oh my God. Kim slept with him. Kim says, yes, and Elizabeth says, all she gets is a yes? Kim says she knows it’s not fair. Franco did the noble thing, and the procedure happened, but he doesn’t remember being Franco. As far as she’s concerned the man who left is Drew. Elizabeth can’t believe Kim is saying this. Kim says he doesn’t remember loving Elizabeth; he doesn’t remember her period. He remembers Kim, and they’re in love. Elizabeth says, that’s not Drew, but Kim says, it is. He’s just in another body. She doesn’t want to hurt Elizabeth, but Franco is Drew in his head and heart. He doesn’t want to hurt her either. Elizabeth says, Kim doesn’t want to hurt her? She should have thought of that before she had sex with Elizabeth’s husband.  Elizabeth cracks Kim a good one across the face, and I cheer.

Cameron says, you know how they say, be careful what you wish for? and Josslyn finishes, because you might get it? Cameron says he knows what it means. He spent so much time hating on Franco, and wanting him to go away. Now Franco is gone, and he should be glad, but he’s not. He hates every minute of it. Part of it is watching his mom and brothers being miserable and confused. His mom is the worst. She’s getting more desperate and sad, insisting Franco is coming back. Josslyn asks if Cameron doesn’t think he is, and he says, the whole transfer procedure isn’t perfect science. Josslyn asks what the other part is that he hates, and he says he’s grateful for Franco saving his life. Josslyn says she is too, and he tells her that he’s realizing how completed Franco made their family. He made their house a real home, and now he’s gone. Josslyn says, it’s terrible, but hopes Cameron knows it’s not his fault. He knows, but feels like he put so much energy in the universe, and finally got what he wanted. But it’s not what he wanted at all.

Sonny asks if Jason thinks Shiloh is trying to intimidate him. Jason doesn’t think so, and Sonny asks, why the call? Jason says he dropped Peter’s name, saying he greenlighted an article on Shiloh in The Invader. He doesn’t know what it means, but he’s going to find out.

Maxie says, okay. She was not expecting that. Lulu asks if she’s horrified, and Maxie asks, why? They’re two consenting adults who enjoyed themselves. She did enjoy it, right? Lulu says, that’s not the point. Maxie says, that’s always the point. Where did the magic happen? Lulu says, the Haunted Star. She was giving him a tour, and he was regaling her with nautical tales. They got swept up, and went to one of the staterooms. Maxie loves the story, but Lulu says, not how it ends. Her mother walked in, with Curtis. Maxie says she’s trying to picture it, but Lulu says, don’t do that. It was one of the most mortifying moments in her life. Karma in a nutshell. Maxie says, it’s payback for what? and Lulu says her divorce is only half a second old, and she falls into bed with the first guy who shows interest. What’s wrong with her?

A guard deposits Shiloh in the visiting area . Peter sits on the other side of the glass, and Shiloh asks where he’s been. Peter says he’s been busy putting out fires. Shiloh says he thought he was the biggest thing that could burn Peter. Peters phone rings. It’s Jason, and Shiloh says he may have called Jason and mentioned Peter’s name. Peter asks why the hell he did that, and Shiloh says Peter knows why. What he didn’t tell Jason is what Peter did to him and his twin, and that he’s responsible for imploding their lives. He just put Peter on Jason’s radar, since he’s been dragging his feet. Peter says, things have been crazy, but Shiloh doesn’t care. His trial starts tomorrow. Get him the hell out of there.

Jason tells Sonny that Peter didn’t pick up. He asks what Sonny thinks of him, but Sonny doesn’t really know him. Jason says the guy held him captive for five years. He wants to present himself as a good guy, but he wanted Jason to kill his dad, and lured Anna in, and was planning to kill her. Sonny wonders what’s his connection to Shiloh, but Jason has no idea. Maybe Maxie and Lulu know something. Jason asks how Carly is, and Sonny says, physically, she’s fine, but she’s worried about Josslyn. She skipped the first day of school. It’s not surprising; she’s been dreading going without Oscar. Jason asks if Carly is upset, and Sonny says, she gets it to a point, but she turned it into a thing about Dev. She thinks Dev is making Josslyn’s life harder. What does Jason think?

Josslyn tells Cameron that she’s sorry about what’s happening to him and his family. It’s terrible; there’s no other way to put it. She asks if there’s anything she can do, and he says, talking helps. She says she’s available any time. No one has come out to take their order, so she goes inside. Dustin sees her, and says he was just reading her essay.

Lulu tells Maxie that she loves talking about this with her ex-father-in-law across the room. Maxie says, the operative word is ex. Sonny knows Dante divorced her. Lulu says, and she was already with someone else. Maxie says her mom and Curtis got an eyeful. Lulu groans, and Maxie says, being interrupted isn’t a big deal. Maxie is happy for Lulu, but she needs to remember that she’s in rebound city. It’s a great place to be, but she doesn’t want live there. Lulu says she’s clear on that, and Maxie tells her, go for it.

Peter says, Jason can’t stand Shiloh, and Shiloh says he’s not president of Peter’s fan club either now. They had a deal. Either spring him or he’s going to tell Jason everything. Peter says if Shiloh tells Jason, he’ll have to confess to his own crimes. Stealing the money, and his deception of a Navy SEAL. If he implicates Peter, he implicates himself.

Franco approaches Cameron’s table, and Cameron says, Franco. Franco says, still Drew. He thinks they should talk.

Elizabeth says, this is insane, and Kim says, but it’s real. Elizabeth gets that Kim’s son died, and she’s an emotional wreck, but she’s snapped if she thinks this is real. It’s an illusion. Kim says Elizabeth keeps saying that, and Elizabeth says, because it is. Her husband was subjected to a hideous procedure, and he’s delusional. Now Kim took advantage. She’s made every excuse in book for Kim, but there’s no excuse for this. She slept with a married man. Kim says, he’s not married in his heart, and Elizabeth says she has a certificate and three boys who say otherwise. Kim says, sorry, but it’s Drew’s life. It’s his choice, and she knows who he’s choosing. Elizabeth says, he’s not Drew, and he’s not in his right mind. He doesn’t know what he’s doing, but Kim does, and she did it anyway. It’s unforgivable. Kim says it would be, if she’d seduced him and tore their family apart. It was already torn. He’s not Franco, and not Elizabeth’s husband. Kim feels horrible for her, but Elizabeth is acting like Kim’s the one who imploded Franco’s memory, and set this in motion. Drew wanted this; they both did. Elizabeth says, call him Drew one more time… Kim says Elizabeth has a right to be angry. If their roles were reversed, she would be angry too, but Franco is gone, and Elizabeth can’t get him back any more than she can get Oscar back. Elizabeth says, watch her.

Kim asks if it can even be reversed, and Elizabeth says, when it happens, Franco will be back and not Drew. Kim asks how she knows. There’s no science that says it’s possible. Elizabeth tells her, Andre says it is. Kim says Drew’s memories are on a flashdrive; they’re real and tangible. Unlike the Drew now, Franco has no baseline. How is Andre going to get his memory back? Elizabeth doesn’t know, but she knows it can be done. Kim says she’s not facing reality, and Elizabeth says Kim is the one who’s not facing reality. Kim says, it’s an untried procedure. Why does Elizabeth think it will work? Because she wants it to? Elizabeth says, so does Franco, and her boys. They need him. Kim says, please. She’s heard enough. Oscar told her about Cameron’s opinion. Don’t put it on them. Elizabeth is the one who needs him. it’s sad that he doesn’t exist anymore, but Drew is here, and has the right to make his own choices. He did, and he didn’t choose Elizabeth.

Franco sits with Cameron. He says he didn’t ask for any of this. He does wish there was some way he could help Cameron and his mom and brothers, but he’ll never be the man they need him to be. Cameron asks if there’s any chance they could stop him, but Franco says he’s not giving up the woman he loves and the life he has. Not even if it means they don’t get the person they love back. Cameron asks what his plan is, but Franco isn’t entirely sure. Cameron asks if he’s leaving, and Franco says, it’s too difficult for everyone if he sticks around. Cameron says, before he leaves, he wants to tell Franco about the man he’s replacing.

Dustin tells Josslyn, he knows they hate it, but he likes to assign an essay right off the bat. She says, to annoy them? but he says, to get to know them. He says hers was thoughtful and comprehensive. She deserves an A, but as impressive as it was, it left him wanting more.

Jason tells Sonny, there are a lot ways to help Dev that aren’t adoption. Sonny tells him, that’s what Carly says. She thinks he’s projecting Morgan onto Dev. Jason is sure she’s just worried about Josslyn. The bigger thing is, they have a baby coming. Dev is taking time and energy, when they’re having a child who will need their time and energy.

Shiloh tells Peter that his public defender says there’s no way he can beat the charges. What’s one more crime? What’s one more miscalculation or error in judgment? They don’t have to talk to him, just read a paper. Andre has a near-fatal stab wound; Drew is presumed dead. Peter has been trying hard to convince everyone he’s not the son of an evil man, but secrets have a way of coming out, If Jason wants the truth, Shiloh has nothing to lose, but Peter stands to lose everything.

Maxie says, a hottie ride-share driver English teacher… Lulu says, his name is Dustin, and Maxie continues, hot Dustin is okay for the stateroom, but not for falling in love. That’s the last thing Lulu needs. Lulu agrees, and Maxie says she’ll be Lulu’s biggest cheerleader, unless she sees Lulu getting in too deep. Sonny and Jason approach the table, and Jason says he was hoping Maxie could answer a few questions about her boyfriend. Maxie says if he has a question, he should ask Peter directly. Jason says he called, but Peter’s not picking up, and she says she’ll do her best. He says The Invader is running a story on Shiloh tomorrow, and Maxie says she knows about it. After all the crap he pulled, Peter is one of good guys now. Lulu asks where this is coming from, and Jason says Shiloh called him. He made a point of mentioning the story, and dropped Peter’s name. Sonny says they’re trying to figure out why.

Peter tells Shiloh, okay; he’ll put a plan in place for his escape. Shiloh laughs, and says he was under the impression there was already a plan in place. He thinks he’ll have another conversation with Jason. Peter says he’ll come through. Shiloh knows he will. He’s worked hard to polish his tarnished reputation. What would his mother think if the truth came out? Or that perky girlfriend of his? Peter tells Shiloh that he said he would, and he will. He’ll be in touch. He slams the phone down and leaves. Shiloh says, he’ll be waiting.

Dustin says he was tempted to give Josslyn a B. She says he told her it was good, and he says, one of the best. She’s clearly bright, and technically, it’s on point, but he senses she’s capable of going deeper. He says he’ll see her in class, and she picks up her order.

Cameron needs to say what a great guy Franco was. Franco says from what he’s heard, not everyone feels that way. Cameron says he came around. Franco showed up in time to save him. If he hadn’t, Drew would be in this body. Franco says, that would be awkward. Cameron says he owes a lot to Franco. Not for the way Franco treated his mom and brothers – he was amazing – but for how Franco treated him. Franco deserved his respect. Franco thanks Cameron, and tells him, good luck. They shake hands, and Cameron says, good luck to him too.

Kim tells Elizabeth, Drew made it clear. He doesn’t want to go away. Elizabeth says that’s because Kim is encouraging him into thinking they have a life together. It would have never gotten this far if she’d told the truth. Kim says, the truth is obvious, and Elizabeth is ignoring it. Elizabeth says forget about her, which seems easy for Kim to do. What about Julian? How can she do this to him? He’s willing to leave his entire family, and start a new life for her; with her, because it’s what she wanted. She doesn’t care? Kim says, of course (🍷) she does, but Elizabeth says, not enough to not destroy him by having an affair with her husband. For the last time, he’s not Drew, and will never be Drew. Kim says, they’re going in circles. She’s not changing her mind, and would like Elizabeth to go. Elizabeth says, gladly. I call Kim names. When Elizabeth is gone, Kim calls Julian. She gets voicemail, and says she wishes he’d picked up. She needs to talk to him right now. She wants to tell him how grateful she is for everything. She thanks him, and hangs up. She writes a note, starting, Dear Charlie…

Elizabeth calls Scotty, and says, Franco is leaving town – now; in a matter of minutes. He told Kim to meet him at Pier 55 at 10 pm. No more stalling. They have to do something now, or they may never see Franco again.

Josslyn brings the order out to Cameron. She starts to tell him about what Dustin said, and asks, what’s wrong? Cameron says, he doesn’t know if this is the best or worst news, but Franco is gone. Josslyn hugs him.

Maxie frowns, and says, that was weird. Lulu says, not really. Jason and Sonny have personal reasons to want to see Shiloh go down. They’re probably covering their bases, and making sure The Invader isn’t printing fake news. Maxie wonders why Shiloh would be talking about anything with Peter.

Sonny says Maxie seemed surprised at a connection between Shiloh and Peter, and Jason says, it was news to her. He needs another set of eyes. Sonny says, let him guess. Spinelli.

Peter waits at the pier. Sketch guy shows up, and says he thought Peter wanted him out. Peter says, there’s been a change of plans. He’ll get his 30%, plus a bonus. The guy says, in exchange for…? Peter says, taking care of David Henry Archer. Yes!!!

Franco waits at Pier 55. Kim shows up, and I’d like to drop kick her into the water. He says she came, and she says, how could she not? They kiss, and she says, they’re really doing this. He says they are, and she just has one question. Where are they going? He doesn’t know. Does it matter? Anywhere they want. It doesn’t matter as long as he’s with her. She suggests they go to the airport, and he says, it’s a good place to start. He takes her suitcase, but two orderlies grab him, and say he’s coming with them. He’s in custody. Kim tries to intervene, but one of them says she’ll have to speak to a judge. They inject Franco with something, and Kim tries to fight with them, but they take him away. She starts to call the police, but Elizabeth appears, and says, don’t. Kim says, Elizabeth did this, and she says Kim gave her no choice.

Tomorrow, Nina tells Valentin it’s only a matter of time before she goes to prison, Shiloh tells Willow when it’s over they’ll be together, and Sonny tells Cassandra to watch her back.

The Real Housewives of Dallas

Stephanie calls Travis at work. She tells him that D’Andra had to cancel her meeting with him. She texted at 1:30 am. He wants to hear the text, and Stephanie says D’Andra had been getting her hair done since 6 am. It wasn’t working out, her hair was dyed several times, and wouldn’t turn back to blonde. She’s not being unprofessional, but has to sleep. Travis says, it’s very unprofessional. In Stephanie’s interview, she says she set up a time for D’Andra and Travis to meet and discuss D’Andra’s business. Now Travis is pissed at her, but she doesn’t know how it’s her fault. He says in his 30 some odd years of business, he’s never heard of a hair emergency. He doesn’t care if she wears a hat; she should show up. Stephanie says he’s not Beyonce. He says he’s going to call D’Andra, and Stephanie tells him to be nice to her friend. Don’t piss her off. In her interview, Stephanie says Travis’s toughness and aggression are good for business and their bank account, but not so good in relationships. When things go wrong, Travis become Mariah Careyish. Travis gets voicemail, and says he did his part, and didn’t get her message until nine, when they were supposed to meet at eight. He thinks it was disrespectful. The thing about business is, you have to show up or nothing is going to happen. Happy birthday.

Leeanne and wedding planner Steve go to see Nardos, a costume designer. LeeAnne tells Nardos that she’s excited, but behind. In her interview, she says, hi. My name is LeeAnne, and I’m a procrastinator. Nardos says they have six weeks, and it usually takes six months. LeeAnne knows she wants to show her figure in the front, but have a train. Steve says LeeAnne has to see it, and LeeAnne says everyone is ten years old in the bridal magazines. In her interview, she wonders if she has to look at mother-of-the-bride dresses for inspiration. Nardos does some sketches, telling LeeAnne, the back should be a statement. LeeAnne says, that’s what everyone stares at for a while. Nardos asks about the budget, and LeeAnne asks what she can get away with. Nardos asks how $10K sounds, and LeeAnne says, that’s a scary number. Nardos says, how about $7K? and Steve says, so many people want to do things for LeeAnne. She’s always hesitant and humble about accepting things, even though she does so much for them. In other words, he’s asking her to give LeeAnne the dress for free. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says, it’s an awkward moment. She knows Nardos does amazing work. If she had the money, she would write a check, but she can’t. A reminder of where she comes from. Nardos says it would be an honor to do her dress, and tells LeeAnne, breathe. Steve wonders if they can put it on Kameron’s bill. LeeAnne asks if she can send Rich a picture, but Steve says he can’t know anything about the dress.

Life coach Carmen goes to Stephanie’s house. Stephanie tells Carmen that she’s not taking care of herself, and knows she’s not visiting Carmen like she should. She’s not centered and she’s anxious. In her interview, Stephanie says, last year, when she opened up about her suicide attempt and depression, she felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She’d been true to herself, and was living an authentic life. She felt connected. Strangers started reaching out, and a lot of them were suicidal. She couldn’t take the pressure, and started spiraling. She tells Carmen that she’s considering taking antidepressants again, but feels like it’s a step backward, and feels shame. Carmen asks, if she met a beautiful young girl who’d been put on antidepressants, would she say that? Stephanie says, not at all, and Carmen says Stephanie wants the standard for herself to be extraordinary. Stephanie says she struggles with self-esteem. Carmen asks when was the earliest she felt that way, and Stephanie says, kindergarten. Carmen tells her, try to remember how that felt. What would she say to her youngest self? Stephanie says, you’re perfect the way you are. You’re enough. Carmen thinks she needs to take a step in building her self-worth, and Stephanie says she feels like she spent the majority of her life hiding who she really is. In Stephanie’s interview, she says, sometimes you need to go on vacation to escape life. I try to remember what the word vacation means, and she says she’s looking forward to going to Mexico. Carmen says, whoever you are, is perfect. Who told her that? Stephanie says, she told herself.

Jeremy does the laundry. D’Andra says she hasn’t done it since college. She’d rather work three or four jobs. Jeremy says he was taught in the military, and he likes it. He asks if she’s talked to Travis, but she doesn’t know what to say. As a man, he’s not going to understand. Jeremy says he doesn’t understand. Travis doesn’t want to hear her hair story. Just say she effed up. She says she didn’t know he didn’t get the message. Jeremy looks at her, and she says, but it’s her fault. He says, it is. In her interview, she says she’s embarrassed, but it’s important that she call. She took some time out of his life, and was expected to show up. She has to do it now, or he might think she’s a flake, and has no interest in business. She doesn’t want him to get the impression she doesn’t care, because she does. Jeremy says, good luck.

D’Andra calls Travis. She says she apologizes. She’s sorry for missing the meeting. It’s her fault, and she knows she took his time. She’s sorry for how she handled it, and hopes he gives her a chance to meet with him again. She’d love to have his help. There’s a really long pause, and she asks if he’s still there. He says he knows crazy things happen sometimes,  but when there’s an apology, everything is good after that. She says, it won’t happen again. She hangs up, all weepy.

Everyone packs for the trip.

Rich asks if LeeAnne has talked with D’Andra. Nobody apologized to him, and he’s at the bottom of it. He’s forgiven people when they haven’t asked for forgiveness. It’s the right thing to do. It’s the Christian thing to do. LeeAnne says they talked, and she’s not mad. Rich says she’s doing a good job, and tells her to pack. She looks at a sheet she was given, and wonders what this hiking sh*t is. Why are they going hiking? Don’t they know her?

Kameron shows up at the airport with three huge bags for the weekend. Stephanie has been scared to go to that part of Mexico. She heard they’ll put your head on a stick. Kameron practices her Spanish. Badly.

They arrive at Puerto Vallarta. In Kameron’s interview, she says, in her yearbook, she was voted most likely to get lost in the airport on the way to college. She was also voted most like be on the cover of Cosmo, so she guesses it’s okay. Kary tells them, the worst part is the drive to the house. She opens champagne on the bus, and they drink out of Solo cups. Kary puts names in a hat, and says, whoever they pick is who they’ll share a room with. In her interview, she says she’s trying to mix it up, so they interact and get to know each other. LeeAnne says, but she has seven bedrooms. In Brandi’s interview, she says, D’Andra is probably the hardest to room with. In Stephanie’s interview, she says, D’Andra has sh*t everywhere, all the time. And she hogs the bathroom. LeeAnne says, D’Andra is a hot mess of a roommate. In D’Andra’s interview, she says it looks like two tornados met a cyclone. LeeAnne is paired with Kary, Stephanie with Kameron, and Brandi with D’Andra. Brandi says she did not win the lottery on this trip.

They make a stop on the way to Careyes, to go to the bathroom and buy liquor. LeeAnne says, this sh*t sucks, and wonders why they didn’t just fly the whole way. Stephanie feels like she’s been in the car for days. Mind you, this is a two hour ride, and while two hours is usually my limit, I don’t get champagne and comfy seating. In Kary’s interview, she says they’re driving through a rural area, and it’s not glamorous. It sure isn’t. At the place they stop, the toilet has no seat and the door is a curtain. Or as Kameron puts it, a hole in the floor with flies. Stephanie says, it looks like gremlins have peed and pooped in it for years. LeeAnne says it’s the most disgusting thing she’s ever done, and I’m sure that’s saying a lot. They get back on the bus, and hand sanitize.

It’s worth the two hour drive. It’s absolutely beautiful. Kameron says, it feels like something out of a James Bond movie. She wants to get on a fabulous metallic bathing suit. Kary tells D’Andra she’s happy they were able to come and celebrate. LeeAnne thinks taking a helicopter would have been better. Kary says the property has been in Eduardo’s family for about thirty years. It was one of the first trips he took her on, and it’s like her own special paradise. She gives them the tour. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says there are seven bedrooms, and only six of them. She’s not sleeping in the same bed with someone else. Kary says whatever name they got, they have to stay with that person. She thinks LeeAnne is  trying to get out of rooming with her, and it’s disrespectful. In her interview, LeeAnne says, the place is like a Stairmaster on crack. While going down yet another set of stairs outside, she says, clearly, you can’t drink too much and walk around this property. In Kary’s interview, she says she’s trying to get to know LeeAnne, and LeeAnne is disregarding all of it. She points out a footbridge that looks long and extremely frightening, but she tells them, it’s a fun experience. LeeAnne says she’s not doing it, but Kary says she’s done it a million times. Her kids have done it. In her interview, Kary says LeeAnne is ruining the vibe, and she asks LeeAnne if she’s always so negative about everything in her life.

Kary says LeeAnne has been complaining since they got there. We flash back to ten seconds ago when LeeAnne was complaining about the ride. In Kary’s interview, she says she won’t bring negativity into her world. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says the host just aggressively came at her. Here’s my beautiful home, and you’re a negative bitch. She’s not negative. She used to have an inspirational blog. In Brandi’s interview, she says, somebody finally called LeeAnne out for her bullsh*t. She loves Kary. Kameron thinks the bridge is scary. They unpack. In D’Andra’s interview, she says it doesn’t surprise her that LeeAnne wants her own room. She likes to be in control or she’s not happy. LeeAnne tells herself, don’t kill anyone. Jail is not worth it. Stephanie and Kary look at the view. Kary feels like LeeAnne doesn’t care to get to know her. She says LeeAnne always picks something to be negative about LeeAnne. LeeAnne asks Kameron if she’s being negative, and Kameron says, no. In Kameron’s interview, she doesn’t get why LeeAnne is often misunderstood in this group. She’s not paying attention to any negative comments. She wants Mexico to be fun and fabulous, and she’s going to have a margarita with a little pink umbrella in it. Kameron tells LeeAnne that her feelings would have been hurt if Kary had said that to her, and LeeAnne says she’s offended. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says not only has Kary not given her a chance, she’s been made to feel unwelcome.

Dinner is served. Kary says it’s a traditional Mexican dinner. In her interview, Kary says her nanny was also an amazing cook, and was her mom’s nanny. D’Andra tells Brandi their room looks like a bomb went off. LeeAnne says she’s roomed with D’Andra, and Kameron says, it’s scary. She’s seen it. She asks how Kary met Eduardo, and Kary says, through friends. They were both married when they met. She tells them, D’Andra dated Eduardo’s brother Guillermo. He’s still not married. D’Andra says she schooled him for everyone. In D’Andra’s interview, she says had she known he had a vacation home like this, she would have put in more effort. Kary says there’s been a dynamic change in coming there since the kids are older. She wants to leave something for her daughter, so she started a jewelry line. We see pictures. There are a lot of pieces with large beads; pretty, but not my style. Kameron says it’s nice having Sparkle Dog. Before that, she had an allowance. Kary says she hates that; she’s not his child. In her interview, Kary says she and Eduardo both grew up with money, but with her mom’s drinking, they lost most of it. She tells the women, she thinks it’s important to have your own money. When you get older, what if he decides to leave? Women without their own money are in a vulnerable place. In Kameron’s interview, she says, in Dallas, a prenup is expected. In D’Andra’s interview, she says, Jeremy didn’t even read it; he just signed it. In Brandi’s interview, she says she and Bryan had no prenup, since they both had nothing. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says they don’t have a prenup, but she guarantees Rich is never going to leave. In her interview, Kameron Says she heard that some wives have to weigh in, and get an allowance accordingly. She would eat a big cupcake every day. Brandi leaves the table, and after a while, Stephanie wonders where she is. She goes to look.

Stephanie knocks on Brandi’s bedroom door. Brandi is lying on the bed, and Stephanie asks if she wants to sleep or come upstairs. Brandi says, sleep. She’s tired. By the time Stephanie says, okay, Brandi is snoring. In her interview, Stephanie says she’s had a poop that’s worn her out. She thinks that’s what happened to Brandi. Stephanie tells the others that Brandi passed out, and they laugh. Kameron says, she wasn’t even doing shots. LeeAnne says Brandi was the first one at the airport; she was there at 6 am. Kary says she’s been doing birthday things for her daughter, and Kameron remarks on how fast the time goes. Kary ask if LeeAnne never wanted babies. LeeAnne says she had a difficult childhood. Kary says she did too. Her mom was an alcoholic, and her parents were divorced. Life is too short for negative energy. LeeAnne says she had a different childhood. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says, that’s Kary’s her opinion, but she’s not in LeeAnne’s shoes. Kary doesn’t know her. LeeAnne says, because of the molestation, she didn’t trust men or women. Kary asks if she’s serous, and LeeAnne says, 100%. Why would she lie? She says, it still affects her; it’s permanent damage. Most people who have been what she’s been through commit suicide by age thirty. She’s only tried three times. And given the opportunity, she’d try again tonight. In Kary’s interview, she says, LeeAnne wants to get married and she’s taking about killing herself. What is she thinking? I actually figured it was a dig at Kary. LeeAnne says life was not pleasant for her most of the time. She apologizes for being negative, but she didn’t get much positive growing up. She’s learned to live with what she has. In D’Andra’s interview, she says depression runs in her family, but LeeAnne uses it as an excuse. We flash back to D’Andra telling them about her father’s suicide. She says she doesn’t want to be another person jumping on the tragedy train. Kary says  she’s sorry, and LeeAnne says, don’t be. In Stephanie’s interview, she says, being dark and depressing is a way for LeeAnne to purposely shut the conversation down, and it works. It makes things very uncomfortable. Stephanie asks when they’re waking up. LeeAnne says, when God wakes them up. And if he doesn’t, she’ll thank Jesus for her time on earth.

Next time, D’Andra gets trashed, Stephanie thinks LeeAnne makes excuses to manipulate people, and Kameron and Brandi argue.

🏊 More 80s For Me…

I watched the premiere of American Horror Story: 1984, and I’m liking it. Freak Show is my favorite season, but this looks to be a close second. A combination of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Friday the 13th, a little Halloween, and Jane Fonda’s workout video, it takes place at a summer camp that is just about to reopen. The scene of a mass murder years ago, one of the victims survived, and has purchased the camp, and the counselors have come a day early. However, it seems Mr. Jingles has escaped from the mental hospital, and is up to his old murderous tricks. As if that wasn’t enough, Matthew Morrison (Glee) is a counselor sporting a 70s porn mustache.

Fear the Walking Dead

Al films Morgan. He says, her name was Jenny. She was originally from North Carolina, but the met in Raleigh. Al asks what he wants to tells her, and he says, there’s not much to tell. She hated the water. He didn’t have the heart to tell her that he wasted his paycheck on renting a boat. Her family was there, and his brother, and it was all right then… He didn’t really sleep good for three months… Duane played baseball, but he was terrible. He loved comics… He made Morgan this card for Father’s Day… Their boy Duane was the best of both of them. You grow up and think you know what life is, you’ve seen the paths, and the clichés are all true. When you have a child, it reframes everything. Al says they’re all gassed up. He says he was just watching his video. Al says they have to get back to the convoy, but Morgan says they still have boxes to drop off. Al tells him, they haven’t been this far west, and they’re low on gas. They have about a day’s worth. Morgan says they might make a difference to someone if they drop off the boxes. She says, all right.

They get to the pick-up. Al looks in the truck bed, and suddenly grabs her gun. She tells Morgan, there were three cans of gas.

A guy fills his tank. Al comes up quietly behind him, and says, the battery is probably dead. Even if got gas in it, it’s not starting. The guy takes out a knife, and tells Al, back away. She says she just needs the gas back. Morgan joins her, and asks why they don’t talk about it. The guy tells them to get the hell away from him, and Morgan says, lower the knife. The guy puts his knife on the ground, and Morgan picks it up. He asks where they guy is trying to go. The guy sees something, and says, no; they found him. They all get in the car, but the gas cap gets left on the ground outside. Several men in cowboy hats ride up. Al lifts the camera, and films through the window. Morgan asks, how many? and she holds up four fingers. She says, sh*t, and Morgan says, what? She quietly opens the car door, and reaches for the gas cap, as the men on horseback get close. She gets back in just before one of them comes alongside the car. His horse looks in the window, but fogs up the glass, so he sees nothing. As he’s about to take a closer look, another says, over here; he went this way. They gallop off. Al tells the guy, start talking. Who the hell is that? Morgan says, it’s all right; they can help him. He says, that’s what they said.

Grace listens to a book as she works on a roof. Daniel calls up, asking what she’s listening to, and she says, Don Quixote. He says, beautiful, and long-winded. He tells her that they’re running out of room in the truck. She should take a break. He saw a case of Fanta inside. She says, orange or grape? but he doesn’t know. She says they’re going to need solar panels when they settle down. There’s nothing wrong about stockpiling for the future. He says, no, there isn’t. He’s going over to the record shop. It’s nice hear that she’s looking in that direction. He says, orange, but she says she was hoping for grape. Tess radios, and Grace tells Daniel, the oil fields. They lost them.

The guy doesn’t understand why Al wants to film, but he’ll do it. She asks his name, and he says, Tom. She asks where he’s from, and he says, this ain’t going to work. She asks what he’s running from. People need to know. Morgan says, whatever happened before, that’s not what they’re about. Tom says he lived in Paradise Ridge, a complex where there were a few dozen people. He was the president of the HOA, but he only got the job because no one ran against him. When the dead started to walk, everyone looked to him like he must know what he’s doing. Morgan says, he must have; he’s still there. Tom says, they had room to spread out, fixed the pool to filter water, and grew vegetables on the roof. They were lucky, but then unlucky. They couldn’t grow food, the fence failed, and the roof started leaking. Most of the people split before the guys on horseback showed up. They offered to help. They said they’d clean up the water, and give them food for a while until they figured out how to grow their own. Al asks, what happened? and Tom says they claimed it was his fault. They were trying to build something bigger. They said it’s not about today, but about tomorrow, and they weren’t part of it. His sister Janice is still there. Al asks if they tried to kill her, and he says they will if he doesn’t get her out. Al asks what they said exactly, and Tom tells her, they said what they’re doing isn’t about today, but about tomorrow. All they cared about was the future. Al says, they’ll go in and get her out.

They get to Paradise Ridge. The group of men on horseback ride up, and the leader pikes a nearby zombie in the head. He radios the guard to open up. The riders go inside, and the guard cleans up the zombie mess, dragging the zombie inside. And you thought cleaning up elephant poop was the worst job.

Al films, and says, they’re in and out every couple hours. Morgan says they probably shouldn’t be this close. Al doesn’t understand what they want, and Tom says, whatever it was, they didn’t want him to see. He tells them that they don’t have to do this, but Morgan says, they can get in before something happens. Al thinks they should wait until the men aren’t in there, and Morgan asks if it’s about Tom’s sister, or is she chasing a story? She can’t believe he even asked her that. He says he doesn’t want her to go alone, but she thinks she can get in and out before they even know she’s inside. Morgan says, it’s not about the story, but Tom isn’t the only one who needs something in there. She tells him to trust her on this.

The guard drags another zombie inside, and the horsemen go out. Al lures a zombie toward her, and Morgan pikes it with his pokey stick. She says, what the hell? and he says, you’re welcome. She says if she can get one close to the gate, she can get inside. Morgan says she’s not going alone, and she says he’s not going at all. She bangs the ground, and he ask her to tell him who she’s looking for besides Tom’s sister. He’s trusted her with a lot, and he’d think she’d do the same, She says, has he? He says, yeah: Jenny, Duane… Al says he hasn’t told her sh*t about where he is now. Why doesn’t he want to go back to the convoy? He’s doing the same thing he did when they first met; running from something. She doesn’t know what. She bangs some more, and catches a zombie’s attention. They both start banging, and she tells him, try not to steal this one.

The truck has stopped, and Daniel tells Grace, they’re pulling too much weight. Grace radios Tess, and says it will be a while before they can get to the rendezvous. Tess says let them know if they need help. Grace tells Daniel, they wish we were there. She says, when it happened, maybe they could have helped. Daniel says, they were helping. They got supplies and… stuff. Grace says they can come back for the truck. It’s a classic mistake. They thought they could bring back everything they found. Daniel says they had no way to know what was going to happen. A year ago, he was like she was, a realist. He couldn’t imagine he’d be here with her, helping make things right. Her, him, and a cat with serious behavioral issues. It’s not a realistic option to be a realist anymore. Grace looks at a map, and says there are some places they can hole up, a couple of miles from there. They can make it on foot. Daniel takes Skidmark’s crate and the records. Grace closes the truck.

A zombie gets close to the complex, and when the guard comes out to kill it, Al and Morgan sneak in behind him. Apparently, he’s not the best guard. I guess you take what you can get in the Apocalypse. He starts to drag the zombie in, and it’s arm comes off when he pulls it. He says, sh*t, and I laugh. Morgan sees a horse, and starts petting it. Al is like, come on. They see a gas truck pull in. Morgan says it’s theirs, but Al says, not anymore. Morgan wants to get back to the convoy. He says, if something happened to them, it’s his fault. Al says she’s heard the rhetoric about a bigger better future before. Morgan asks, from whom? and she says someone in an organization that might be working with these people. Someone she never thought she’d see again. Morgan asks if she’s looking for them, and she says she is. He says, then go look. He’ll find out how they got the truck.

Grace says, there’s a bar ahead, and Daniel says, not a moment too soon. Skidmark is particular about his dinner schedule. Grace says Skidmark is lucky to have him, and he says the least he can do is feed Skidmark. For a long time, the cat was all he had. They ate together, listened to music together, and for a while, it seemed like that’s the way it would stay. Grace says, what changed? but they hear a zombie noise. Several zombies come out of the darkness. Daniel sets down the crate and his tote bag of records, and charges them. Daniel gets a zombie down, but it falls all over the records. Daniel tries to pick them up, but a zombie comes up behind him. Grace says, they have to get out now, and grabs Skidmark, who you know I’ve been worried about the entire time. The zombies follow, stomping all over what’s left of the records.

Morgan listens at the door of a house, and goes inside. He calls for Janice, and looks around, but it’s dark and silent. He radios Al, saying, she’s not there. Did Al find what she wanted? Al says, not yet. Al crosses the courtyard. Morgan hears zombie gurgling. Al tries a door, but it’s locked. She bangs it open using the butt of her gun. She goes in, and takes a video of some charts that are hanging up; things like weekly inventory and next to harvest. Morgan hears zombie scuffling sounds behind a door, and I wonder, why open it? Al moves on to a map that has various keys pegged on it with the names of settlements attached to them. Morgan gets the door open, and a female zombie flies out. He knocks it out the window, and radios Al. He says, it looks like Janice took care of whoever was coming in. He says, they have to go now, and she sneaks back out.

Al ducks back to avoid being seen by a guy patrolling the grounds. A zombie pops out, and pushes Al backward into the pool. They’re locked together, and Al manages to come up for air, but it pulls her back down. Morgan jumps in, and pierces it through the head with his pokey stick. He says they’ve got to get the hell out, but Al says, too late. Ginny is there with her posse, and tells them, you two sure know how to make an entrance.

Al and Morgan sit in an air conditioned living room. Al wonders if they’re going to be killed, but Morgan thinks they would have done it by now. Ginny comes in, and says, sorry to keep them waiting. They left a mess in the pool. She takes out two jars of preserves, and asks, strawberry or apricot? They made both. Maybe they should try a little of each. They just look at her, and she apologizes, saying, they should probably start with the basics. She knows who Morgan and Al are, and introduces herself. Morgan asks how she knows their names, and she says she saw their tape. It was a hoot. She never considered using a documentary to spread the word until she saw theirs. Very smart. She asks what brings them there, and Morgan asks, where’s Janice? Ginny says, they ran into Tom. Janice ran off shortly after Tom left, but she left them a nice surprise in her room. Al asks if they tried to kill her,  and Ginny says, they’re trying to protect the place. it’s easier now that they have gas. Morgan asks what she did to their friends, and Ginny says their friends are fine. Unless they consider Logan a friend; then, condolences. Al says they had no right to take the gas, but Ginny says they’re both trying to do the same thing. They want to help people; so does Morgan’s group. They have different ideas on how to accomplish it. She can help them, if they let her. Morgan asks, how? and she says, how’s it been? He’s been dealing with the loss of his family. He should talk to Miss Fifer. She’s not a full-fledged shrink, but she helps with perspective. She travels to the different settlements, and talks to people. Al asks how big their operation is. Do they have helicopters? Ginny says, they just got a gas supply. Why that crazy idea? Al says she just wanted to know. Ginny says she’s an open book. She wishes they could chat longer, but she has a lot of work to do. Like she told their friends, the doors are always open. Al says, they’re free to go, and she can keep the tape? Ginny wants her to show as many people as she can. Building the future is easier when you’re not on your own. Morgan says Ginny is talking about the future, but holding onto the past no matter what the cost. Ginny says they’ll have to agree to disagree. Al and Morgan’s things are returned, and Morgan is presented with a new and improved pokey stick. Ginny says they have a worker in the community who’s a beautiful craftsman. He fixed Morgan’s stick, and it should hold up to whatever gets thrown at it. I so cannot figure Ginny out.

Al and Morgan walk out of the gate. Two zombies totter toward the. Al creams one, and Morgan uses his new stick on the other. Ginny says, this is the future. They don’t see it yet, but they will. Unless they die. People tend to do this. That’s why they’re doing what they’re doing, and why Al and Morgan should join them. Al and Morgan start to walk, and Ginny tells them, go on. Suck on a stone when you could be slurping soup.

Grace gives Daniel a breakfast pastry. He says, no way the records survived the night, and Grace says, sorry. He wanted Charlie to hear the Traveling Wilburys. Grace asked what changed; it was Charlie. Nothing felt the same after she showed up. He thought it might be his daughter who ended up joining them, but things don’t always go the way you think. Grace says, no, they don’t. He says if things don’t go the way he thinks, he wants her to keep an eye on Charlie and Skidmark. Grace says, okay, but the first thing she’s going to do, is find someone else to keep an eye on them. He says he thought she was looking toward the future, but she says, it’s not about how long she’s got. When they were at the mall, she realized she wanted to start living for something beyond today. It was a good idea at the time, but she has a bad record for making things worse. She thought she could help Morgan. She tried. Daniel thinks she helped Morgan more than she imagines. Daniel saw him in the mall. He was smiling until he ran out of cheek. Grace says, he wants Charlie to hear the Wilburys? Maybe they don’t need records. She picks up a guitar sitting on a stand, and says she took lessons. They could teach Charlie. Daniel asks what makes her think he can sing?  She plays, and sings End of the Line, and he joins her, singing harmony.

Al drives, and Tom says he’s so sorry. Janice wasn’t even there. They could have been looking for their own. Al says they needed to see it for themselves. Now they have. Morgan tells Tom, they said they’d help find her, and they’re not giving up until  they have. Al says, the tank is almost empty. They’re not going to have enough to get to the rendezvous.

Al films. She suggests they pick up where they left off. The Father’s Day card. Morgan says, that was… He asks if Al cared about the person she was looking for in that place. She says it’s not about her now. He says, it’s about both of them, isn’t it? and she says, yeah. She cared about her. She also cared about where she was from and what she was doing. She talked a lot about the future, and Al wanted there to be a connection. So about the card? Morgan says he told Ginny that she was holding on to the past, no matter the cost, but she’s not the only one. He laughs, and says he doesn’t think he needs to do this anymore. He thinks he’s good.

Morgan radios Grace. He says, if she can hear him, tell him where she is. They need to talk. Daniel answers, and Morgan asks if he’s with Grace. He says he is, and tells Morgan that they were headed to the convoy. Grace seemed fine, but she suddenly changed. Morgan asks to talk to her. She looks pretty sick, half-lying on the couch, and sweating bullets. Daniel gives her the radio, and Morgan asks where she is. They can come to her and Daniel. Grace isn’t sure. She says they were one their way to the rendezvous. He asks if she’s okay, but she’s not sure. She starts to cough, and says, what she was worried about? She thinks it’s happening. Morgan says tell him where they are, and he and Al will be there. Daniel takes the radio, and says, they’re at a bar just south of the 290 junction. Grace takes the radio, and says she hopes she sees him. She wants to see his smile again, but doesn’t think she has much time left.

Daniel puts a blanket around Grace. She thanks him for singing with her. He says, it’s going to be okay, but she says she won’t be around to sing.

Next time, no food or water, Morgan tells Al that it’s not the end of the road, and Ginny isn’t apologizing for her methods.

🗽 I’m loving The Deuce so much. Besides my amusement at it starring James Franco and James Franco, it’s eerily realistic, and gives an accurate picture of the gritty side of Times Square in the 80s. Frankly, I fail to see how Times Square was cleaned up. It was much more honest back then. Most of the seedy/criminal stuff was concentrated on 8th Avenue, so you mostly didn’t go there, unless you had to cross the street. There were a few dirty movies on 42nd St., but you could also go to theaters where you could see three or four current movies for two bucks. The best and biggest record store in the world was there, open either all night or really late – I used to go there when I couldn’t sleep. Since they cleaned it up, now they have cartoon characters groping children and trying to extort money from tourists. (I swear, I will cut an Elmo if he ever touches me.), naked women (sorry, body paint is not clothing), and God knows what else. The world is officially bass ackwards. What’s also interesting about the show is how the advent of the VCR changed everything. And the beginning of the AIDS epidemic. Sadly, this is the final season. There are few series I would purchase on DVD, but this is one of them.

Fear the Walking Dead

Logan sets up a take what you need box. A woman radios, asking if anyone copies. He answers, asking if she’s at the Feedbag. He set that place up. She says her name is Serena, and he asks how he can help. She says she was following him and his partner. He says his partner is on route to where she is. We hear zombie noises, and Logan says, Desert Fox to Polar Bear. Does Clay copy? He gets no response, and asks if Clay decided to sleep in. He tells Serena that he’s coming to get her himself. She says, they’re coming in the back door too, and he tells her, hang on. He’s going as fast as he can. Keep talking, and barricade the door. She says, there are too many; the door’s not going to hold. Logan’s gas gauge shows he’s almost on empty. He tries again to radio Clay, saying, SOS at the Feedbag. The truck runs out of gas, and he jumps out. He asks Serena where she is, and tells her that he’s almost there. He hears the zombies attack her. He runs inside, calling for Serena. It’s quiet, and he finds the zombie’s feeding on her. They see him, and he shoots. He stumbles out, crying, and drops to his knees.

Logan looks up the road, and sees some people on horseback. A woman asks if he’s the man who was trying to help that girl. Their condolences. He says, she is? She says, Virginia. Most people call her Ginny. He asks what they want, and she says, to help. They’ve been watching him; listening. They want the same thing he does, but bigger and better. Together, they can get from yesterday to tomorrow. He says he’s listening.

Dylan picks a rat out of a bunch of them in a box. Max says, don’t worry. They won’t eat him. They put the rat inside of a small cage, and hang it up. There are several rats in cages hung up in a circle, making zombies work a wheel, the same way a carrot is dangled in front of a donkey. (I wonder if a good zombie always goes to the right?) The wheel causes oil to pump out of a pipe. Wen tells Sarah, they’re 3000 gallons ahead of schedule. He tells Luci, this is no place to store the tanker. His pillow looks like the Shroud of Turin when he wakes up. Luci says she doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. Wen says he’s not worried about his hands; he’s worried about everything else. They hear a truck approach the barricade. Wen asks if it’s Sarah, and tells Luci, that’s not her rig. They draw their guns, and Logan busts through. Annie tells the kids to get down, and go. Luci approaches the truck.

Wen asks what Logan is doing there, and Logan says, he has to ask? He sees some of his people; he wondered where Clay stashed them. Luci tells him not to move, and he says, no one is firing a weapon. If he was her, he’d stop giving orders and start taking them. She why he’s there. He tells her, like the box says, take what you need and leave what you don’t. And they need it all.

Alicia paints a tree, and asks Victor if it’s too much phoenix. He says, Ross had clouds; she has birds. He notices her radio is on, and he says they won’t be able to charge it. They’re almost out of gas. She says, they can’t give up on him, but Victor says Wen told them he didn’t want help. Why would he want it now? A girl’s voice comes over the radio, saying she needs help, and giving them her location, and Alicia relays the message to John and June. June says, Sarah and Wen were going to the oil field. She thinks Logan found them, and no one’s heard from Morgan and Al. Alicia says she can’t reach him either, and June says they’ll help with the truck stop. They’ve got this. Victor asks Alicia, how do they know Logan isn’t trying to draw them away? and Alicia says, what’s the point of having gas if they can’t use it to help people?

Logan watches the wheel. A worker says, it was Clay’s idea. He wanted to see them do good. Doris hands Logan Clay’s journal, and says, there’s no instructions. Wen asks how he found them, and Logan says he watched their movie. They should have been more careful where they point the camera. As Logan looks through the journal, Luci says maybe he can remember what he used to believe. Logan says, that doesn’t mean he was right, and tosses it into the fire. Doris stops Luci from retrieving it, and Luci goes back with the others. Logan says, smart girl. She doesn’t want to make it difficult. It won’t make a difference. It’s only prolonging the inevitable; the survival of the fittest. Luci asks why he’s doing this, and he says he told Morgan that he was helping people, just not in a way they can get on board with. Wen suggests he try them first, but Logan thinks they’d have no stomach for it. Are they going to give him gas, or what? Luci says, no, and Logan says he didn’t think so. He radios his guys, and says they need to start cooking. The guy Dwight didn’t shoot (whose name I still don’t know) says he’s not as optimistic as he was before; they hit a roadblock. Logan says, unblock it. They’re about to start a new batch.

Dude says they have no time to find a new route. They have to get these off the road. He starts to move a container, and Sarah pops out, saying, some fellas will do anything to avoid asking directions. Lucky for him, they know the way. Dwight is glad he didn’t shoot dude while he had the chance. Now there’s no way he’s not helping. Dude is hesitant, and Sarah shoots and grazes him. She says, of all the sh*t she’s had to live with, she can’t abide that she killed Polar Bear for nothing. Him, she can live with. He wisely  gets in the truck.

In the past, Logan checks his watch, and looks at key points on a map.

Logan asks Luci, what’s the matter? and she tells him, it’s too windy. If the tanker gets too hot, the oil won’t separate. (I guess she’s the Walter White of FWD now.) Logan says that’s why he needs assistance. Here’s his cook now. Sarah pulls up instead. She and Dwight get out of the truck, and Sarah says Logan doesn’t seem happy see her. He says he wasn’t expecting her, and she says she and Dude had a little chat. He picked the perfect day to decide to stop being an a-hole. Watching with June from a cliff above them, John shoots one of the wheel zombies. He radios, that’s a friendly warning. In case he gets an itchy trigger finger. The zombie drags along in the circle, now literally dead weight.

Sarah tells Logan, they can walk their separate ways. These people don’t want no part of this sh*t show. He says, the problem is, the show must go on. They walked on stage, and they know how it ends. She says, do they? Logan says they had the chance to kill him and didn’t take it. That won’t change now. He radios John, saying, John may be a good shot, but this is one he’s not going to take. John cocks his hat, and says, not unless he has to. Logan says he’s bluffing. Sarah says, when he’s right, he’s right. They’re not here to make their iron bark, or to take over the oil fields either. She hopes he sees reason, and stops what he’s doing, or at least gets the point. She can’t undo how she got Clay killed. She has to live with regrets every day. When she saw him in the rearview, she could have stopped, and done the right thing, but she didn’t do jack. Wen says, she’s right. He’ll have to live with his conscience. Logan says he’ll be reasonable. The kids can go, if they can go back to work. It’s a reasonable trade. Sarah says they’ll need a car, and gas. Logan thinks he can spare a few gallons. Annie says she’s not leaving; they can help. Luci says they’re leaving, and Sarah says, the convoy is at the rendezvous. Do they know where that is? Annie says, yes, and Sarah says, skedaddle. Dylan asks Luci, what about the rats? and she says they’ll take care of them. Just be safe.

The girl tells Alicia, they’re starting to build up outside. Alicia asks her name, but she thinks it’s safer for her not to give it. Alicia says she needs to stay calm. Help is coming. The girl says, really? Victor says the inevitable has happened. They’re out of gas. Alicia tells the girl that they’re on their way. Do what she has to, to stay safe. Alicia radios to anyone listening that she can use help.

Oil pumps out. Dwight says the fire is out of hand, and Luci says, it’s too big. Logan says she shouldn’t have sent his cook back. Get back to work. Sarah says, the real truth, what the hell does Logan need the gas for? Logan says she doesn’t need to be concerned. They’re going to help people. It’s just not going to be one person at a time. This mom and pop crap makes people think they have a chance. Sarah is sorry he feels that way, and Logan says he has her to thank. He got a call that someone needed help along Clay’s route. When Clay didn’t answer, he went himself.

We see Logan running. He says he didn’t get there in time. He had to listen to her get torn apart, and there was nothing he could do. All because Clay wasn’t there, because she stole his rig. He’s doing what he’s doing because of her. If she wants to help make a difference – over the radio,  Alicia says they’re close – walk away. They’ve already done their part. Nothing they do is going to make up for that.

June radios, saying she hopes she’s not interrupting, but they have to get out of there now. She looks through the binoculars, and sees zombies walking toward a cliff above where the tanker is. There’s nothing I love more than a zombie walking off a cliff. Unless it’s a whole horde of them walking off a cliff, like in the Grand Canyon episode of Z Nation. < We pause for a moment, and reflect on the passing of my favorite show.>

It’s nighttime, and John is shooting the zombies as the get close to the edge. Doris smashes one’s head. Luci watches the tank burn. Doris says she’s got to kill the fire, but Luci says she can’t; it’s burning too hot. June watches. Tons of zombies go splat below the cliff. Some get up; some don’t. Dwight says they need their weapons. John keeps shooting. June radios that they can’t take them out. They have to clear out of there.

It’s getting pretty messy, and Doris says they have a problem. Logan says they also have company. Someone deal with the dead. Dwight says they need gas, and Wen says, they need to be alive to do what they’re doing. Dwight asks if he thinks the gas in the truck will hold them over, and he, Wen, Luci, and Sarah head for the truck. Doris tells Logan, they need to bail, but he says, no one needs to be bailing. A zombie clutches at his pant leg, and he tells her, don’t just stand there, kill it. It starts crawling up his leg. Doris shrugs, and jets. The tanker burns hotter. Sarah gets in the truck, and looks at Logan. She says, sh*t, and gets back out. Dwight asks, what’s going on? and she says she can’t leave him. Dwight says Logan told them to walk away; he doesn’t want help. Sarah says if she’s not back in two minutes, get in the truck. Wen tells her not to go, but she says, don’t try to talk her out of it. She’s going to do what she should have done back then. Wes says, what they both should have done . Sarah goes into the fray. Man, I hope they don’ kill her off. I really like Sarah.

Alicia asks if the girl copies. She says she’s not sure how much longer the doors will hold. Alicia says there should be a generator, and she can broadcast from where she is. Does she copy? There’s nothing. Alicia and Victor look at each other.

The tank burns. Sarah drags Logan inside. He’s pissed, and says she should have left him out there. She tells him that he’s a real  sh*t-ass at thank yous. She just saved him. He says she prolonged the inevitable. If something else doesn’t get them, the dead will. They tried to help others, but no one is coming to help them. She says, maybe he’s right. The girl Alicia was talking to comes over the radio, saying she needs help. Logan says, more people to save, and she asks if anybody is there. Sarah picks up, and Logan says she’s got be sh*tting him. The girl says she’s trapped, and Sarah hands Logan the radio. He asks if there’s an ad for sunscreen on the wall. The girl says Alicia told her that he could help. Sarah asks if Logan knows her, but he says she’s like the one he was trying to tell her about. They’re giving the poor girl hope. He tells the girl,  the sooner she accepts this, the sooner she’ll understand what she has to do. She says she can’t kill them; there’s too many. He tells her there’s a gun in there. She sees it, and asks how he knew. He says he left it there.

John keeps shooting, and a zombie comes up behind him. June shoots it, and it looks like there are more coming, but it’s Tess and Jacob. Tess says they couldn’t stay with the convoy, and Jacob says they thought the group might need assistance. John says they need to keep the ones on the ridge from falling in.

She says, there’s only one bullet. Logan says he knows; he’s sorry. She sees the zombies clamoring at the doors, and coming through the trap door below. She says, don’t be. It’s better this way. I heave a huge sigh, along with Logan. She cocks the gun, and closes her eyes. They start to come in. Everyone listens on the radio. Logan says, no, and we hear a shot. Then more shots. Everyone is like, wha…? Sarah asks if she’s okay. Who’s there? Wes takes the radio, and says, the name’s Wes. He heard Alicia on the radio. She helped him, so he figured he’d pay it forward. Sarah looks at Logan, and says, what happened before, she’s sorry, but that’s no reason to throw this all away. They help people. We see clips of everyone helping  each other, and Sarah says, they help people. it’s hard to get bigger than that.

Alicia and Victor arrive at the Feedbag. The girl is surprised Alicia made it, and Alicia is glad she’s okay. Alicia introduces Victor. She says she was hoping Wes was listening. Victor asks, what happened to people are people? and Wes says, sometimes they’re not. He wasn’t going to listen to someone die over the walkie. He tells Alicia that he saw her trees. Not bad. He likes the phoenix thing. The girl says they shouldn’t stay. They’ll find her. The place she’s from, there are people she couldn’t be with anymore. She was trying to get out. That’s why she ended up there. Alicia says she’s with them now. Those people aren’t going to bother her anymore. They leave. Victor lingers, but then follows.

A zombie climbs out of a ditch, and Jacob pikes him with his trusty bayonet. John stomps another one’s head. Sarah and Logan come outside. Sarah says, this sh*t is worse than a tequila hangover. They all meet, and Logan says he recognizes Tess from the movie. Jacob, not so much. John says he couldn’t have cleared the place without him. June says these are people they helped. What’s left of Logan’s guys come out with guns. Logan tells them, guns down. There’s been enough horse sh*t already.  Doris tells him  that he said they’d take it all. Logan says he thought they needed it. She says he claimed it was their ticket to the Promised Land, and he says, it still could be – if they put the guns down. Doris lowers hers, and the rest follow suit. John says, okay, and they all lower their guns. Logan says, sh*t happens. Then more sh*t happens, and it makes you start to doubt what you’re about. double Some people do better with a partner. Clayton never did. He may have burned Clayton’s journal, but he didn’t snuff out what Clay was trying to do. Shocking us all, someone shoots Logan in the head, and then picks off the rest of his group. John and the others draw their weapons. Ginny rides in with a few people, and a bunch of others ride along the ridge above, and wait there.

Luci says she killed Logan, and Ginny says they had to do this for a reason, and don’t take it lightly. She then says something in Spanish. She says they all know Logan was a liability who couldn’t be trusted. June asks what she knows about them, and Ginny says they’re not exactly hermits. They’ve been watching them for a while, on and off screen, and like what they’re doing so much, she thinks there’s a way they can all help each other. She gets down from her horse. She says their biggest weakness is, they think too small. Their convoy works – mostly – but mostly it doesn’t. Luci says, who is she to tell them how to help? Sarah says they don’t take tips from a killer. Ginny says think of them as pioneers. Settlers, settling everything, everywhere. It’s no different than what they’re doing with the outposts, but it’s bigger, and if she may, better. A hundred years from now, people might look back and think their methods are ruthless and unkind, but there will be people to look back. They have people everywhere, and they can help each other. She says, Dwight. If his wife is still alive, they can help  him find her. June. They can help find her the sweet little place she’s looking for. She looks at Sarah and Wen, and says they need someplace to brood. They can find that too. They brokered a deal with Logan to help expand on what they built; to help keep it going. There’s no telling what they can offer each other. Sarah says she can take her offer, and shove it straight up her poopshoot. June says, Sarah is right. They saw what Ginny does to people who take her deals. Ginny says they only eliminate what’s not essential. That doesn’t describe them. Dwight says, they’ll take their chances, and Wen says they can cook for themselves. Ginny says, leaving them high and dry, without what they came for? That makes them less essential. She raises her hand, and her people raise their guns. John and the others raise theirs, and John says, don’t. Everyone freezes.

Luci says, wait. She can stay. She tells Ginny, let them go. She can help make it. John says, they can get out of this. They’ve gotten out of worse scrapes. Sarah says, no, but Luci says, this way , they can keep everyone going; keep them alive. Ginny says, sounds like a deal to her. Luci tells her to give them a tanker of gas, and Ginny says, they can do that. Luci tells June, use it. Everyone leave, and then prove them wrong. Ginny doesn’t see that happening, but if they change their minds, do reach out. At the rate they’re expanding, they won’t have a hard time finding them.

The tanker pulls out, along with the other cars, leaving Luci behind. Ginny smiles.

Next time, Al and Morgan meet a group while on their way back to the convoy; Daniel says  it’s him, Grace, and a cat with serious behavioral issues; and Ginny says someone knows how to make an entrance.

😱 It’s Déjà Redrum All Over Again…

I need to hurry up and finish the book before the movie comes out. Even though it’s the sequel to The Shining, IMO, it stands on its own. I’m hoping the movie doesn’t disappoint – it looks promising.

September 1, 2019 – Charlie Meets a Rabbi, Deck in Thailand, Cashew (Bless You), What’s On & Workin’

Fear the Walking Dead

A rabbi celebrates Shabbat. He sings in Hebrew. Someone – or something – bangs at the door. He says if they were alive, he’d  let them in, but they have nothing to talk about. He’s sure they’re not so good at conversation. The banging continues. He extinguishes his candle, and says, you want to talk, let’s talk. He goes to the door, taking a gun with a bayonet down from the wall. He pushes the door open, and smashes a zombie in the head. He looks around outside. Everything is quiet, and he closes the gate of a metal fence around the property. He hears something and picks up the gun again. He sees some zombies messing around a car, and dispatches them with the bayonet, but one grabs him and pulls him down. The car door opens, knocking the zombie off of him, and he shoots it. Charlie peeks out, and he asks if she’s okay. She nods, and he asks her name. She says, Charlie, and they shake hands. He says he’s Rabbi Jacob Kessler, and welcomes her to his temple. She picks up his yarmulke, and says, sorry. She saw the light. He says, it’s not a light. It’s the flame of truth; the presence of God. God led her there, but God needs new batteries. He suggests getting her something to eat, and maybe a towel. She is pretty dirty.

I’m loving how the opening credits change every week. A tie-in object in the empty field.

The convoy flattens a zombie into roadkill. They get out of the trucks, and put up a fence, then make a circle of vehicles with the camp in the middle. John says this is the second time they’ve had to set up. Traveling by night, and watching by day is taking its toll. June says it might take Morgan, Alicia, and Victor a while. Sarah says they need gas, and June says they’ll do another run. John says, it’s not just about gas. They need to stop, and take a breath. June says, this isn’t the place to do it. Dwight approaches them, and says, the headcount is off. Someone is missing. June asks, who?

Charlie opens her eyes and looks out over the temple from the balcony. Jacob pikes a zombie at the fence. Charlie tells him, that she can help. He says she’s not the first person to fall asleep there. She says she’s mostly been sleeping in cars lately, and not getting much sleep. She stabs a zombie, and he asks why the dead are following her. She says she was looking for something, and got separated from her group. He says, she has a group? They have to get her back to them. She asks if he thinks God led her there, and he says, she doesn’t? She says, why would He? and Jacob says, why wouldn’t He? She asks if he always answers a question with a question, and he says, does he? Maybe she’s there because there’s something she needs, and she’s finally going to find it. He says, Yeshua calls, and goes back inside. Charlie follows.

Jacob puts on his prayer shawl, and Charlie asks what happened to his people. He says, what happened to most people. He used to talk to his congregation about souls rising to be reunited with their bodies at the end of the world. He got it half right. She asks why he still does it if no one if there. He says it works for him, and because it’s tradition. Tradition is important. More now than ever. The lights dim, and he says it’s his last battery. It can’t go dark; he has to find batteries. She  tells him, wait. She knows where they can get some.

Charlie radios the convoy. June asks if she’s all right. Sorry; she thought they were all accounted for. Charlie says it’s not her fault. They didn’t leave without her; she ran away. June asks, why? and Charlie says she can’t keep living the way they have. She wants to find a place where they can settle. She’s checked some places, and none seemed right, but she thinks she might have found a place to call home. She tells June, come see for herself. And bring car batteries.

Jacob kills another zombie, and Charlie asks where they’re coming from. He says, there must be a gap in the fence. He’ll find it. She says her friends are coming to help. He tells her, helping to keep the flame going is a mitzvah. He’ll take care of the fence. She can wait inside, and make herself at home. On his way back out, he looks at the zombie on the ground. From the look on his face, I think he knew them. He hears zombie noises coming from another building. The door is boarded up, but the bottom board is gone, and a zombie is stuck halfway through the opening. He pulls the zombie out, and uses the bayonet on it. Another is starting to wiggle out, and he shoves it back in, then puts the board back. The crowd inside bangs against a double glass door that’s chained and padlocked. Jacob tightens the chain. He puts his palms on the glass, and prays in Hebrew.

June tells Jacob she can’t tell him how much it meant. John says, it’s the least they can do; he kept Charlie safe. Jacob hooks up a new car battery. He asks how big the convoy is, and June says they’re up to 36. Jacob says, the mystics believe there are only 36 righteous people in the world at any given time. Maybe he’s met three tonight. June says they should go, but Charlie says she told Jacob that they’d help fix the fence. Jacob says they’ve done more than enough. Charlie says he helped her; let them help him. John gives Jacob a caramel candy, and Jacob gives John a yarmulke. John puts it on, and asks how he looks. Jacob says, goyish. Kind of like the Pope, but not bad. John puts his cowboy hat on over the yarmulke, which is both charming and funny.

June pikes a zombie near the fence, and Charlie tells her to pull Al’s tank in, but June is afraid it might bring whole thing down. She knows Charlie wants a place to settle, but it’s not big enough, and there’s no water source for miles. Charlie says, it’s not perfect, but it’s better than what they’re doing. Going on a run, and not know if home will be there when they get back. June asks if it’s about how it used to be, and Charlie asks if it’s really that different. June says, they’re different. They might have been in a caravan that went bad, but this won’t. Charlie tells her, she said the same thing then. June says the tanker is unprotected. This place isn’t what Charlie wants it to be. They need to get back to the convoy.

Dwight sips beer with Sarah, and says, not bad. He looks through the binoculars, and Sarah asks if there’s any sign. He says, not yet. They’ll be back. Sarah says, here’s to the road. Dwight says he can’t remember anything but. Sarah hears that. She and Wen have pounded the pavement since before the munchers started munching. Dwight says, at least they had each other. She asks how long he’s been hoofing it solo, and he says he lost track of time. She says, she’d go off the deep end, that long with no one to talk to. He says he almost did, and she asks if his gal kept him going. He says, walkers too. He’s been watching them, wandering around. Who knows how far they came from, or where they’re going. Life on the road forever. Sarah says, the hell with that. Dwight looks through the binoculars again, and says, sh*t. Logan’s guys. They found us.

Charlie asks if Jacob makes his own wine, and he says, Mogen David isn’t not easy to come by. He has a small vineyard out back, and a bit of a green. She says, he told her God led her there for a reason, and she thinks he may be right. Jacob says she looks better, and the eternal flame looks better; what the have is a win-win. Charlie wants to live there. They all can. John doesn’t think it’s a good idea, and she asks, why not? June says they need to get going, but Charlie says, they can go. She’s staying. Jacob says she should be with her people. He appreciates what they’ve done. Sarah radios June, who asks, what’s wrong? Sarah says, Logan tracked them down. June asks how he found them, and Sarah has no clue, but they’ve got to get the hell out. June says they’re on their way. The convoy abandons camp.

Inside the temple, the group hears zombie noises outside. Charlie wonders how they got in. Jacob tells Charlie, don’t worry. They’re not there because of her. They’re there because of him. She asks who they are, and he says, his congregation.

Jacob says, they put up fences, gathered food water, and managed for weeks. They ran low on supplies, so he left to find some. When he came back… June says, he found them like this. Sorry. Jacob says he’s sorry. They’re only there because they’re helping him. John says, they’re not done yet. Charlie says, if they stay quiet, the zombies will go away, but June says, that could take days. John says they’re on a tighter timetable than that. He has an idea.

John starts climb down a fire escape from the roof – the kind that’s like ladders hooked together – and June follows. It’s outside the reach of the zombies, but they’re still pretty close. John says, they can do this, and unhooks a ladder, dropping it onto the top of a truck. He hands June his gun. The zombies reach for him, as he jets across. One grabs his pant leg, but he kicks it good. June goes next. She’s a little slower, but makes it.

Sarah radios June, saying they’ll meet at the rendezvous. What these guys want, is what’s in the tanks. They’ll make sure they don’t get it. A voice on the radio says Dwight should have taken a shot while he had the chance. Sarah says, he knows this d*ck? and Dwight says, he had him, and let him go. He thought he was doing a good thing. Sarah says, no good deed, right? She radios June, and says they can use the assist. June says, working on it, as she and John struggle moving the ladder.

They move the ladder to the next truck. June goes first, with John following, but as he gets to the middle, he falls, still staying on the ladder. June shoots some of the closest zombies, and John scoots on his butt the rest of the way. Charlie and Jacob watch, and Charlie radios June, saying, they’re almost there. June starts across, but the ladder falls. She’s able to scramble back, but John and June are left stuck on top of a truck. Charlie says, what happened? and June says they’re not going to make it. She radios Sarah, and says it could take longer than they were thinking. John says they might be on their own.

John wonders how it happened. He guesses June was just in the right place. She says if she could explain it, she would. The zombies crowd around the car. Charlie says, okay. They’ll pick them off one by one. She asks Jacob how many bullets he has, but he says he can’t use bullets on them. John doesn’t think they have enough time. June says Charlie knows how to fix this; same as they used to. Charlie shakes her head, and says, no. She’s not giving this place up. Jacob says, it’s okay, but she says, it’s not, because she saw the light. He said God led her there. He says he shouldn’t have told her that. He doesn’t believe in God. He hasn’t for a long time. She says, because of what happened to them when he left? He says he didn’t go to get supplies. He started to lose faith. He  saw what was happening; what people were doing to each other. She asks why he left, and he asks how he could lead them if he didn’t believe? He looked for something to change his mind, but he didn’t find it. When he came back, they were already dead, and locked inside. It wasn’t pleasant. He’s alive because he left. He’s alive because he didn’t believe in God. If that isn’t a clear message, he doesn’t know what is. She says, what about the prayers? The lamp? He says it’s all he has left. Now he’s put her and her friends at great risk. He couldn’t let go. Don’t do the same. He tells her, don’t lose her people because she can’t let go of what thinks this place could be.

Charlie radios June, and says she’s right. They can fix this. She wipes tears from her face, and asks Jacob if he has anything that makes a lot of noise. As they shoot zombies, June tells John, maybe she missed it. He tells her not to get introspective at a  time like this. She says she’s one who kept them on the road. She thought it was the right thing. Every time they  settled… John says, it’s not the way she’d hoped, but maybe it would be the same on the road, or if they were stationery, given the current circumstances. Jacob blows the shofar, and the zombies all turn in his direction. They begin to stream into the temple, and Jacob tells Charlie, come on. She runs in, and they both run up to the balcony.

John and June pike the few zombies that are left, and run to the temple. They shut the doors and put a pole across, so the zombies can’t get out. Charlie and Jacob watch from the balcony. He says, sorry it didn’t end up being a place she could call home. The light sputters out, and all of us feel sad. Charlie says, it’s okay. Jacob says, Yeshua calls. He and Charlie leave out the back. I’m not Jewish, but this is breaking my heart a little.

Sarah says, turd in a toilet bowl, and tells Dwight that they’re running out of gas. He says they’re driving a tanker, but she says, it’s not bottomless mimosas. The tank isn’t connected. They come to a stop under a bridge. Sarah says, sh*t, and they get their guns ready. The cars following them pull up next to the truck. They just stare at each other, and Sarah tells Dwight they’re going down with the ship. She hopes they don’t end up crispy critters. He says it’s been fun riding with her, and she says, him too. Sarah stares at the driver in the car next to her again. He looks back for a moment, and the cars leave. Dwight wonders where they’re going, and Sarah says, something scared them off. She sees Al’s tank coming up the road, and breaths a sigh of relief.

June tells Charlie, it’s lucky she ran into a rabbi and not someone else. Charlie says, sorry. June says maybe she kept pushing everyone too hard. Saying they should find the right place. Maybe she’s holding onto an idea that’s not out there. Jacob asks what makes her think it is out there? and she says she doesn’t know. She just feels it. Jacob doesn’t know about them, but he’s going start looking again. Charlie asks, for what? and he says for what he needs to find. And he won’t stop until he finds it. John says they’ll have as much gas as they need after they make a run to the oilfields. June says, they’ll keep driving, and keep hoping they find the place they’re meant to be. Charlie says, they will.

Sarah puts gas in the truck. She introduces herself to Jacob, and says it’s good to have him with them. She asks if he knows how far it is to Yom Kippur. She has some things to atone for. He says she has some time yet. Dwight asks if she’s Jewish, and she says, Rabinowitz, card carrying member of the tribe. She asks Jacob if he’s every celebrated Shabbat with beer, and he says he makes his own wine. She says, her kind of rabbi.

John tells Dwight, at least Logan’s crew is off their back for the time being. Dwight tells John they’ve burned through a lot of gas. John bets he didn’t count on the cavalry showing up. He says from what he’s seen of Logan and his guys, they don’t do anything by accident.

Logan radios one of the men, who says, those a-holes are as far away as possible. All clear. That’s what Logan likes to hear. A woman in the car with him says they’re almost out of gas. He says, no, they’re not. We see a sign that says Lonesome Quarry, and the woman says they’re looking for oil, not rocks. Logan says, Doris, hang onto your hat. We’re about to buy ourselves a ticket to the Promised Land.

Next time, a roadblock, a showdown, and Doris calls Logan on his statement about the Promised Land.

Fear the Walking Dead

A lot of this episode was comprised of interviews with the characters, being put together for what’s basically a PSA.

Al is filming. We see one of the boxes that says, take what you need – leave what you don’t. Morgan says he was on the run. Al asks, from what? and he says, people. Somebody helped him, and that’s what this is all about. A zombie goes by. Alicia says clean-up was her job. It’s what she was good at. She took a step back, and figured out what she needed to keep going; keep helping. Daniel says he thought that’s where he’d be spending the rest of his days, alone with that cat. This is better. Grace says, she gets up, counts her regrets, puta them on her shoulders, and starts the day. Want you do with the time you have left? That’s the question. Victor says the universe is testing them. One becomes born to do something else; a survivor. There’s power in that. John says, money means nothing now. People who were sitting on piles of money, eating caviar out of ladles could have done something in the world. They missed their chance. This group is lousy with skills. That’s wealth today, and they’re glad to spread the wealth. He tasted caviar once, and it tasted like bait. June says, things change. She reached out to someone, and someone else reached out to her. If they make it spread, it means everything. Duane says he has a chance to do what he needs to do, and he’s taking it. Charlie says when they helped as people, things got better. Luci says, everything else was training for this.

Morgan says they landed the plane, and they did the impossible, a few people noticed. That’s all they needed. Al asked if they’ve saved people, and he says, at least a few. He hasn’t stopped driving since he got the radio message. We flash back to Morgan hearing a woman’s voice on the radio, saying, can you help me?  Al asks, what about communal living? He says they’re still working on that. It’s easier to see what other people need help with. A zombie comes toward the camera, and Morgan kills it. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, let’s get back to it.

Al says after what happened, she wanted to make sure she wasn’t the only one doing this. She’s not used to this side of the camera. It’s been a long while. She knows how important the story is.

John opens a truck. In a voiceover, Morgan says, after they were contacted, they knew there were more out there. So they picked up more trucks, and covered more ground. Morgan asks Sarah if she’s heard anything, but she says. the radio is all quiet.

Sarah fills a big gas truck. She says this is how they keep humming. Polar Bear’s dudes hooked them up. They fill it every couple of weeks. Logan was right about one thing; gas is going kaput. It’s hard enough to get around. Daniel says someone drives behind to keep everything safe. People want to get it, and hopefully, their presence discourages that. Sarah says Logan wanted the gas for himself. He thought he’d fool them twice with the good Samaritan stuff, but they got him good.

Logan runs after the truck, yelling for them to stop, as they leave him in the dust. Sarah says, karma is a bitch. Technically, what they did to Logan wasn’t any different from what they did to Clayton, but this felt good.

Duane says he got lucky. He fell in with the right folks this time. He’s doing the polar opposite of what he used to do. If he does this for the rest of his life, he won’t make up for what he’s done, but he’ll know he did good. And being on the road, he can find her… Maybe. Daniel says, Duane won’t let him give him a haircut. Duane says, it doesn’t matter what he looks like. Daniel says it wouldn’t take much to make him look presentable.

Alicia explains that she rides in the lead vehicle. Morgan gives Alicia a pokey stick lesson. In her interview, Alicia thinks change is good. It’s what she needed. Victor kicks some zombie ass. Al says tell her about Alicia. Victor says she’s his friend. He wasn’t there when she needed him, but he’s with her now, and doing what he can.

June says she and Grace are in charge of the caravan. Everyone they’re helping is spaced so far apart. Grace says they try to keep the people comfortable between outposts. She and June set up a little camp. Grace makes a list. A zombie wanders in, and June tells everyone to get in the truck. In her interview, she says they’ll find a place to call home – eventually. There has to be a right place. June plays with her pseudo engagement ring. Al asks, when’s the wedding? but June says they have more important things to do. As far as she’s concerned, they’re already married. In John’s interview, he says June has his word and heart. That’s all that matters in this world. Al notices Grace checking her lymph nodes, and Grace says she wakes up wondering if today is the day she’ll feel sick. It used to stop her from doing things, but now she does as much as she can with what she has.

Morgan says when they were on the plane, he never pictured them coming this far. He feels good about what they’re doing, and seeing what it’s doing for everybody. Al asks what it’s done for him, and he says he might not have had the answer before he met Tess.

Luci radios Morgan, saying they need some help, and he asks where they’re going. He pulls up to a farmhouse. Luci says they tried to reach her husband on the walkie. From inside, Tess radios Luci, saying she doesn’t know what’s taking so long. Morgan asks if she can come out, but she says she can’t. They rigged the field, and she doesn’t know where they are. John joins them, and Morgan wonders what she’s talking about, when a zombie comes through the gate, and blows up. John says, landmines. Pieces of zombie rain down on them. Morgan asks, how many more? but Tess doesn’t know. John says the noise is going to bring more, and Morgan says they have to fix the fence.

Sarah listens to Convoy in her truck, and sings along over the radio. In her interview, Charlie says, they like their trucker music. Duane says, it’s all they listen to. Daniel says, this is not music. Sarah says, it’s not just music; it’s their anthem. It’s how they stay in touch when Wen is watching the kids in tanktown. Daniel says, they should have shot Logan in the mouth as soon as he opened it. No more words. He’s proven worth of his words.

Tess says the landmines were put everywhere. Morgan says they have to keep the zombies away from the fence. He asks where Tess’s husband went, and she says to the drugstore for an inhaler. Their son has asthma. Morgan asks if he’s okay, and she says, yes… no… yes. Morgan says they’ll send people to look for him. He asks her if she won’t come out in the meantime, and see what they look like. She asks about the cameras, and John suggests turning them off, but Al says, no. It’s important. Morgan says they’re recording so they can show people what they’re about. Al says not many people saw what they did, and they’re trying to figure the best way to get the message out. So people know they’re not full of crap. John radios Alicia and June. Morgan asks why Tess can’t leave, and Tess says she hasn’t left since things went bad. They have supplies. John says a map of the landmines would have helped. Morgan says it took him a long time to leave the first place he was in. Tess says her husband will be back soon. Morgan wants to make sure her boy gets what he needs. A zombie starts to come through the gate, but John shoots it. John tells Morgan, he said it would draw a crowd. Does he think they can find her husband? Morgan says they crashed a plane and put it back together. They should be able to find a husband. In John’s interview, he says it hit close to home with each of them in their own particular way.

June looks for medical supplies in a pharmacy. She radios Morgan, saying, there’s no inhaler. In her interview, she says, Tess needed to leave the house, and couldn’t. That’s what happens when you settle in one place too long. Things go bad. In Alicia’s interview, she says they thought they should split up to cover more ground. Alicia finds the tree with the message, if you’re reading this, you’re still here. June radios, asking if anyone sees anything. Victor says, nothing, but Alicia says she sees a message on a tree. In her interview, she says her mom looked for a little bit of good when she went out in the world. She would have liked this. We go back to Alicia by the tree. A zombie approaches her, and Victor pikes it from behind. She says she hasn’t killed since after the plane crash. She doesn’t want to go back there.

Morgan goes around the fence. In his interview, John says, a woman with a son; that’s what Morgan lost. Al asks Morgan if he wants to talk about it. He says, no. John says when he was a cop, he and his partner went for whole shifts without saying anything. They knew what made each other tick, and had each other’s backs. He was a good partner. Morgan says, John’s not a good talker. At least not always. Neither is he. At least not always. John tells Morgan that he’ll cover him. Al follows with the camera. Morgan starts to follows the fence, but the zombies pressing against it are too heavy, and that panel falls in. They blow up, and John says it’s the ugliest mustard he’s ever seen. His grandfather worked in a deli, and used to say that. In his interview, Morgan says, it was intense. John says Morgan has to get to the porch before… There’s another explosion; Morgan and Al duck. In Al’s interview, she says, words can’t describe it. Zombies keep blowing up. Morgan asks if everything is all right inside, and Tess says, yeah. Morgan radios June, asking where the inhaler is. Victor says the tree wasn’t the only remarkable thing they came across. June says, a walker came at Alicia. Not just any walker. Alicia says, it was him. June says, it was Tess’s husband. June takes inhaler out of a backpack.

Morgan says they don’t know how close the mines are to house, but runs toward it. In his interview, he says it was loaded for him. He knew from the moment he talked to them. Al says, because what happened to his wife and son? and he says, yes. He continues to move toward to house, and slams a zombie. Al says, don’t move… your left foot… sh*t. Morgan tells John not to come any closer; he doesn’t want anyone else get hurt. John says it could take a while, he might as well have company.

Victor drives up. June has the inhaler. John says they don’t know how many of these things there are. Tess asks what’s going on, and Morgan says they have the inhaler. She needs to come out. She says, Ben will be back. He can get it, and help them too. Morgan tells her, Ben’s not coming back. They found him. He got what they needed. Can she come out? She insists he’s coming back, and Morgan says she can’t bring herself to say goodbye. June gets it; it’s hard. Morgan says if she’s not coming out, he’ll have to get inside. June wonders if Al should put the camera down, but Morgan says, they need to see this. Al says she’s dealt with landmines before. It’s either a dud or a pressure release device. They won’t know until they see what it is. Al tells Morgan to dig the dirt from around it gently, so they can see what they’re up against. John gives him a pocketknife. Once the device is exposed, Al tells him how to rig it, so it doesn’t explode. He asks how sure she is, and she says, 50/50.  He says he had something planned for tonight. Something he thinks they all need. John tells him, don’t make any final pronouncements, but Morgan says he’s not doing that. He’s saying it’s still on. He says, on three, but Tess comes out, and tells him, wait. What he’s using won’t work. She’s seen Ben do it a hundred times before. Morgan tells her, stay back, but she says she can help. She wants to help. She knows he’s not coming back.

She carefully walks toward Morgan, and gives him some kind of clip, saying, he used these. Al explains to slide the pin in where the holes line up, and lift his foot slowly to release the pressure. He follows her instructions, and June asks if they think it will hold. John thinks Al should back up, and Morgan says they all should. They back away, but Luci has the camera and keeps filming Morgan. He steps away, and says, let’s go. In her interview, Luci says, she hadn’t gone out in two years. June says, she did today. To help Morgan. Morgan says, because he was there to help her. June asks how he feels, and there’s an explosion where he’d been standing. Tess comes out with her son. In Morgan’s interview, he says he didn’t think she’d come out. Al asks, why not? He says, you can hear somebody’s gone, even see for yourself, and you still can’t believe it. Sometimes you just can’t say goodbye. Morgan hands the boy the inhaler.

The group makes dinner at the campsite. Morgan says he’s been wanting to do it for a while, and they finally could. Grace is making pad thai, and says the recipe has been on her refrigerator for years, and this is what it took for her to make it. She’s just missing peanuts. I wonder if she memorized it, or took it with her just in case. Tess is interviewed, and she says Ben didn’t think everyone was bad. He just thought they needed to stay put to survive where they were, and help would come. He was right. She thanks them, and hugs her son. John says, there’s a proud tradition of eating noodles around a campfire with this group. Morgan asks Alicia if she wants to practice tomorrow, but she says she’s working on something on her own. In her interview, she says she wants to know who’s painting the trees. She wants to find them.

Sarah pulls up, with the others. Everyone laughs and eats. At their happiest, I don’t think they’ve ever looked this content on The Walking Dead. In his interview, Morgan says, you never know where help will come from, but we all need it. Al asks if he’s talking about Tess or himself. He’d said he didn’t think he could answer before Tess. He says he knew he needed help with something, but he didn’t know what it was. It’s been long time since lost them. He still hasn’t said goodbye. He thinks he needs to, but doesn’t know how.

On camera, Alicia says she needs help finding her own way to make things better. John needs to figure out how to make the world like it used to be. June needs to find a place for them. One that won’t be like other the other places they’ve been. Grace says there are things she wants to do. Victor wants to make the most of his second chance. Daniel wants to be a man his daughter would have been proud to call dad. Duane says, he wants to end the day knowing he tried to make someone else’s day better. Charlie wants to do right by the people who took a chance on her. Sarah says she’s keeping the rig chugging for the poet of pavement. Al says she’s making sure their stories aren’t just interviews on paper. She started filming so they’d have it, but it’s become so much more.

Each person says a piece of the end (and I paraphrase). No one can do it on their own. That’s why they made the tape. They need people. That’s how they’ll last. When everyone is helping one another. So if you’re watching, pick up a radio, or leave food, do something, anything. Help yourself. Help us. Help everyone. When everyone starts helping, that’s how they’ll help everyone.

A TV goes to black. A guy (whose name we’ll find out later, is Wes) picks up his knapsack and radio. He listens at the back door, and notices there’s a padlock on it. He takes some snacks, looks at the take what you need, leave what you don’t box – with the phrase help how you can now added – breaks the lock on the door, and walks out of Long Oak Gas. He fills his bike tank. He sees two cars coming, and says, sh*t. A bunch of uniformed people with guns get out of the cars, led by Logan (sans uniform). Wes says he doesn’t want trouble, and Logan says neither does he. There’s something Wes needs to see. He tosses a worn-through pair of boots down, and says, that’s what happens to shoes you walk two hundred miles in. The dead walk; we weren’t meant to. He spent a lot of time clearing the roads, and can’t make use of his own handiwork because their gas was taken. One of Logan’s people takes Wes’s bag, while another siphons the gas out of his bike. Logan asks Wes where the oilfields are. Forget the horse sh*t. Wes says he’s ignorant of said horse sh*t. He’s not with those people who made the tape. Horse sh*t of a different kind. Logan says he likes Wes, but wants to make sure he can’t follow. Two of Logan’s people shoot the tires on Wes’s bike. Logan says, unless Wes wants to join the marching band – he points to a few zombies headed toward the station – he might want to get out.  Wes asks, how? Logan says, call them. When they pick up, tell them they’re making more enemies than friends out there. He tosses Wes a radio, and says they have more bullets than they know what to do with. One of his cronies shoots in the air.

They drive off. Wes looks at the radio.

Fear the Walking Dead

Morgan gets on the radio. He says they’re looking for people. We see each of them take a turn at the mic; Alicia, Victor, John, Sarah, Charlie, Luci, and June. Alicia says they just want to help. Victor says, they want to offer assistance, but it’s not selfless. They need it too. John says, don’t be shy. If they’re hungry, there’s help. Sarah says, they’ve got beer. Charlie asks if anybody’s there. They all wait. Morgan asks again if anybody is there. Alicia says it was a good idea, but maybe they can’t make up for what they did. Maybe they’re the last ones left. Morgan knows they’re not. She tells him, dinner’s ready; take a break. They leave, and someone asks if anyone is there. They could use some help. Morgan runs back in, and says, copy. Everything’s going to be all right. Morgan asks where he is.

We see Logan at the truck stop, and it’s a mess. Everything has been thrown around everywhere, stuffing ripped out of cushions, furniture overturned; all covered with what looks like vacuum cleaner dust. Someone calls for Logan to get his ass down there. He comes out on a landing, and several people stand below him. A woman says they’ve searched every inch, and it ain’t there. Tell them where it is, or the next hole they dig will be for him.

Alicia showers the blood off of herself. Grace tells her the water is almost down, and gives her a towel. SheGrace says they need to make a move pretty soon. We hear a siren, and Grace thanks Alicia for getting the kids. She says she should have gotten them, but Alicia says she didn’t know. Grace says she didn’t look. They crashed a plane, and found the kids right away. Alicia says they’ve been doing this for months; Grace never did. Grace says she’s going to be okay, but Alicia say she doesn’t know that. Grace says she doesn’t know she won’t be. The siren means more radiation is coming than got on Alicia.

Morgan sees the coming zombie horde. Luci tells him to get to the truck stop, but he says he can’t risk it. The zombies are too close as it is. He’s going to keep leading them away. She says they have the plane radio running, and to let them know when he’s coming. She likes their chances. Morgan says, keep working. He’ll catch up as soon as he can.

Grace asks if Alicia is okay, and Alicia says she just had a hot shower, so there’s that. Morgan says they’ve got to keep moving. He listens to the siren, and says he’s starting to hate that sound. Grace says she does too, but if it stops, the real trouble begins. The zombies continue to come.

Dylan asks June if she wants to look for John, and she says, more than anything. But if they don’t fix the plane, it won’t be ready when he gets back. Dylan asks if she thinks he’ll make it. She says she’s seen a lot of bad – he has too – but he needs to know that’s not all there is. There’s got to be good too. Otherwise, it doesn’t add up. They haven’t seen whole lot of good lately, and she thinks they’ve got some coming. Dylan agrees.

Dwight and John go through a used car lot, looking for something to hotwire, but have no luck. Nothing starts. Dwight says they’ve got to keep looking. John tries to radio, but gets dead air. Dwight says they must be out of range. John looks in a car, and says, this one will work. Dwight tells him, try it, but he says he doesn’t have to. He sees wrappers from the butterscotch candies he likes on the dashboard. The car starts immediately, and tells Dwight, they’re going to make this thing work yet. They drive off.

Grace drives with Alicia and Morgan in the car, leading the zombies away. Alicia tells Morgan that she should have left them at the tree houses. She couldn’t kill anymore. She says, sorry, but he says, there’s nothing to feel sorry for. When they get back, he’ll teach her the exercises he does. They’re not just about fighting. They’re about protecting yourself and other people, even your enemies. They help him; maybe they can help her too. They arrive at the car blockade. Grace says, get down, and they all crouch inside the truck, as the zombies go by. Grace tells them, don’t move. Hopefully the zombies will keep following the sound. Morgan says as soon as they get to the first ridge, they’ll double back to the plane. Alicia tells Morgan to look, and they see a cloud from an explosion rise in the distance. Presumably from the plant. Suddenly, an errant zombie pops up at Morgan’s window, and tries to get to him. Grace backs up and out. She hits one of the cars, and gets stuck. They get out, and Morgan grabs his pokey stick, still in plastic. Morgan radios Luci, and says they’re coming, but they’re not going to be alone.

Sarah blocks Logan’s truck as he’s driving out. They both get out, and Logan asks if she’d mind moving he rig, calling her sweetheart. She notes that he has a black eye, and says if he calls her sweetheart again, she’ll give him a shiner in the other eye to match it. He assumes they want the truck stop back, and says he’s moving on. He was looking for something, but it’s not there. She says before he leaves, she wants him to do something for her friends. They nearly got themselves killed saving his ass. They’re fixing a plane, and need to find a way to light up a runway. If he hits the brights on his convoy, it will work. He says she’s asking for help, and that’s not how he operates. She tells him, the rig she’s driving, belonged in part to Clayton. She stole with her brother. Now they’re just trying to help too. That’s how they operate. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t regret what they’ve done. She’s read what Clayton wrote, and it gnaws at you. If you walk away from helping people who need it, you’ll spend what’s left of your miserable life making up for it. He owes it to them – and Clayton. He says, nice speech, but unlike his partner, he’s above ground. He’s not his sticking neck out. it’s kept him breathing, and he kind of likes breathing.

John asks Dwight, how far? and Dwight says, fifteen or twenty miles. The car starts sputtering, and stops. John can’t get it going again. He says they had a full tank of gas, but Dwight says it probably went bad. He’s noticed it before. Dwight points out the cloud in the distance. They get out of the car, and John gets June on the radio. She says they must be getting closer, and he says they are. He asks if they’re both looking at the same thing. He’s not giving up, but he might not make it in time. June asks where they are; she’ll come there. He says, it’s too far. He says he’ll do his best to get back, but asks her to promise they’ll take off whether he’s there or not. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he found a reason to live. He wants her to have a reason, whether he’s there or not. Dwight listens as he uses Shari’s words, find something to live for, and live. He says, promise him, and she promises. He says he loves her, but the sound starts breaking up, and John’s radio dies. Dwight says he’s sorry he can’t make it right, for John or anyone else. John sees a message written on a tree, if you’re reading this, it means you’re still here, and asks Dwight how far he thinks Shari’s car is.

Luci asks if June is okay, and June hands her the radio. Luci tells Morgan the wind has changed direction, and he says they need to get on the plane now. They’re closer than she thinks. She sees them running out of the woods. She says they’re not leaving until they have to, but they need help. The zombie horde emerges from the woods. Man, these zombies look tired.

Sarah tells Wen that Logan and his sick squad tore the place up. It looks like they were digging to China. He wonders what they were looking for, and she says, not flares. If she has to shoot sunshine out of her ass to make runway lights happen, then that’s what she’ll do. A car comes squealing in. Wen says they’ve got company. Daniel gets out with his hands up, and Sarah says, Dan the man? She lets Skidmark go, and he runs to Daniel. Daniel says his cat got fatter. Sarah asks if that’s why he’s there, and he says he heard them on the radio, and brought some things to help. Wen says it’s thoughtful, but unless he has spotlights in his trunk, it won’t be enough. Daniel asks him to help unload.

June tells Charlie to get more ammo. Morgan asks Grace if he can use his pokey stick, and she says it should be fine.

Victor works the controls, and asks Al if she’s ready. Al says they’ve got the engines running, and can’t wait much longer. Morgan says they’ll keep them off as long as they can. Al tells Victor that she’s glad she’s not doing this alone. Alicia makes sure the kids are buckled in. She and Victor are scared, but excited. Victor says, he’s got this. Al says they need to leave now, or they won’t have enough fuel. Victor asks if everybody is ready, and Luci says he can do this. He counts down, three… two… and June says, wait. She made John a promise, but this isn’t it. She tells Morgan to get on the plane, and he tells Alicia and Grace to run. Victor tells Al, when he says go, hit it. Morgan, Alicia, and Grace run to the plane, which opens in the back. They hear a car horn, and John and Dwight zoom up, John shooting zombies as they drive. They run to the plane and get in.

Three speedier zombies get hooked in some kind of netting hanging from the plane. One just gets dragged along, but two cling to the open doorway. Al tells them, lose the dead weight now, and John shoots them. The plane goes up with the doorway open. If this was on a big screen, I’d probably feel queasy. They go over the cloud of smoke, and John says they’re all right. Victor says they’ve got this, and everyone relaxes. Dwight looks at Shari’s ring. Morgan looks at his pokey stick. June tells John that she didn’t want to leave, and John says he knows. He kisses her forehead. Victor says, look at that, seeing the mountain. Al says it’s not the prettiest thing she’s seen since the end of everything.

The plane works surprisingly well. Alicia asks Morgan what they do now, and he says, make it back. She says, then do what? He’d said they should keep looking for people to help, and make sure others are living, but how do they do that? He laughs, and says he doesn’t know. That’s what they have to figure out. The plane shakes grace takes her belt off, and breaks the contaminated end off of Morgan’s stick, tossing it out of the plane. She gives the rest of it back to him, saying she fixed it. It was the only way. Morgan says she’s not the first person, and thanks her. June asks John if Dwight will be all right, and John says he thinks so. He wouldn’t have made it without Dwight. They found the car, but thought they hit a dead end. He saw something that made him understand that there are two ways to look everything. He thought he’d never speak to her again, and there was so much he had to say. He can’t keep going unless it’s said. He takes out a candy, and says he knows it doesn’t make sense, but would she do him the honor of becoming his wife. He shows her a ring he’s made from the gold candy wrapper. June says yes, and he says, before they die, he’s putting it on her. He does, and they kiss.

Sarah and Daniel set up numerous stings of Christmas lights, all connected to each other to line the runway. Sarah asks if he thinks they’ll see, and Daniel says they’ll know soon enough. Victor radios Sarah, and she tells him to keep his eyes peeled. He says that’s music to his ears; they’re uncomfortably low on fuel. He sees the makeshift runway, and tells the others they have to see this.

At the generator, Wen turns his chair around, and sees a zombie. He backs up toward the zombie, impaling it on the swords he can eject out of his chair. He didn’t count on the zombie being stuck on the swords, and grabs his rifle. Another zombie heads for him, and trips over the cord going to the generator, turning out the lights. I make a very loud noise. Al says that’s not good. They’re low on fuel.

All of a sudden, the plane starts to jerk. Sarah tries to get Wen on the radio, but he drops it. He propels himself out of the chair. He grabs the radio, and tells Sarah that he wants to say, if he doesn’t make it, she makes the worst beer he’s ever tasted. He loves her anyway. Sarah starts running toward where Wen is. Victor says they need the lights now. Wen crawls forward. Al says they’re going down, whether they like it or not. Wen manages to get the plug back in, and they land. It’s super rough, but they land, and they could see where they were going. Victor laughs

Morgan says, they’re all still standing. He introduces Sarah to Grace. Sarah says they can thank Dan the man for supplying the lights. Dan says he told Al not to show his interview to anyone. Morgan says they did it, and congratulates everyone. Dylan gives Luci the copy of The Little Prince, telling her it helped him a lot. Sarah asks the kids, who’s hungry? There are busted up vending machines that need raiding. The kids run inside, and Alicia runs to Daniel. He’s sorry about what happened. She is too, and says she’s trying to make it better. She thinks that’s happened. She introduces Dwight to Daniel, who says he needs a haircut. Alicia explains that Daniel used to be a barber, and Dwight says he might take Daniel up on it. Charlie hugs Daniel, saying she thought she’d never see him again. He says, after he left, his daughter Ofelia was gone, but he couldn’t let go. (#WhereIsOfelia) He couldn’t let himself say goodbye. Now he could, so he’s back, and he brought all the good records. He tells Victor that he was wrong. Victor says they all are at times.

Sarah, Luci, and Wen clink beers. Wen says it was crazy down there, and her beer still tastes like sh*t. Sarah tells him, keep drinking. It gets better.

Morgan practices with his now shorter pokey stick. A woman comes in on the radio, asking if he copies. He asks who it is, and they ask if they was his plane. He says, yes; who are you?  She says she’s heard them before, and saw their boxes on the road. He asks why she didn’t say anything, and she says she didn’t think they were real. Now she saw the plane, and knows they are. She could use some help. Morgan gets feedback, and Logan’s voice says, sorry to interrupt, but he needs to chat. A car pulls in, and Logan gets out. Sarah says, too little too late, and the group surrounds him, pointing their guns. He says, okay; that’s fair. Morgan asks what he’s doing there. He says he listened to Morgan plan to help that woman on the radio, and he has a proposition. Alicia says he’s got to be kidding.

Logan tells them, because of the hurricane, and other elements, eventually it will be impossible to cross the mountain without a plane. Clayton knew the problem was coming, and set it up so people could cultivate a resource to rectify the situation – gasoline. Clayton wrote down the location in in one of his journals. Logan thought he could find it, but he was wrong. He thinks they have it. Luci says they do. He says if they give him the journal, he’ll take them there. Luci asks, how they know it’s not a trap? Victor asks, why not bring his convoy? Logan says they’d kill him, and them, if they knew he was there. He has bad sh*t to make up for too. Alicia said trust her if he wanted help. If they want anybody to get help ever again, they have to get to them. Soon, they won’t be able to. If they want to help people, they’ll help him find it.

Next time – in three weeks – more people are found, Victor wonders if the universe is testing them, a message is found on a tree, and landmines need to be navigated. Literally.

Fear the Walking Dead

Annie washes herself up. The rest of the kids watch a cartoon and laugh. Dylan reads The Little Prince. Annie tells Max that there’s hot water. Morgan radios, and asks if everyone is okay. She says, yeah, and he thanks her for holding down the fort. He says they don’t plan on staying much longer. She asks if he understands the roads are out, and tells him, don’t go near the radiation signs. He says he knows, and she asks how he’s planning on getting out. He says he’ll show them if they open the gate.

Morgan drives in with the body of the plane on a flatbed, with a convoy of trucks behind him. He says they were honest, but didn’t tell the kids everything. They did a lot of bad things, and have done things they regret and have to live with. Things they aren’t able to run away from. It wasn’t easy getting there, but they didn’t give up. They found a way because they had something to fight for, even if it wasn’t what they thought. No one was on the end of the radio, but they still had something to fight for – each other – and them. They can do this. They’ve done the impossible before. Luci says they’ll need some help. Dylan asks what they do now, and Luci says, fix the plane. Fly back across the mountains together. I don’t suppose there are any airplane mechanics among those kids.

Morgan asks if Grace copies. He’s working on a way to get home, and found some people he thinks she’d want to meet. Near the car roadblock, Grace turns off the radio. Morgan says he’ll leave the channel open. If she hears him, let them know. Morgan practices with his latest pokey stick. It’s not satisfactory, so he looks for something else. He tries to pull the head off of a mop, and Alicia finds him. They both laugh, and she asks if he’s okay. He says he’s good, and she asks for a hand with the landing gear.

Outside, everyone works to get the plane back together. Luci asks Dylan what he thinks, and he takes off his glasses. He thinks it’s going to work. He says the book says to only see with the heart, not the eyes, so he got rid of eyes. She asks if his heart knows how to fix the reduction gear.

Oil drips on Sarah’s head as she tinkers with something. Victor says he’ll get her a rag, and she tells him to get a beer too. She works better with a five out of ten buzz. Victor tells Charlie to radio the others, and tell them it might take a minute. Annie tells Dylan that they’re there to help, so these people leave, and they can go back to how things were. June asks Annie about her ankle, and wants to look at it. Luci takes Dylan and Max back out to the plane.

June says, Annie wants to run, doesn’t she? She used to run too, but never with a sprained ankle. If she was Annie, she’d wit a week, and maybe get a new pair of shoes. And socks. Her boyfriend says, survival starts with socks. John walks in, and says, that’s a fact. He and Dwight are keeping up the search. He wants to make sure Shari is on the plane when it takes off. June tells Dwight to keep John out of trouble, and Dwight says he’ll try.

Al gets in the plane, and starts it. The propellers turn, but one starts to look dicey. Luci yells, get down! as the propeller flies off. Dylan asks if that’s the reduction gear. Al wonders where they’re going to get a new propeller. A zombie toddles onto the scene. Alicia is about to whack him with what’s left of the propeller, but Morgan gets there first, using his new mop pokey stick. He asks, what happened? and Al says, the engine worked, but the propellers didn’t. Morgan says they’ll start looking for a replacement. Grace radios, asking if they have a generator. They need to unlock it, gas it up, and get it ready for transport. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, a different plan. And if he doesn’t do what she says, there will be another meltdown.

Dwight thinks he and John are wasting time; he’s been down this way already. John says when he was looking for June, he thought she was dead, but when he met other people, things started clicking. An extra set of eyes helps you see better. He says he doesn’t mean to pry, but how did Dwight and Shari split up? Dwight says he and Shari got split up before he left where he was living. John asks how he ended up with her rings, and Dwight says, it’s complicated. John says the first time June told him that she loved him, she didn’t tell him. She spelled it out with Scrabble tiles. They never left his pocket. Dwight says he’s lucky it worked out for him, and John says they’ll find her. She’ll be on the plane. Dwight says he’s not talking about that; he’s talking about how John is, the way he thinks, how he is now. He hasn’t been broken or burned or twisted, and Dwight hopes he never is. John says he’s luckier than Dwight thinks. The world did a number on him, and gave him more than he could handle. It was hard to deal with, but he found a way.

Alicia tells Luci the generator is cooling. The system failed, and Grace needs it. It won’t fix it, but it will buy them time. They need finish the plane – fast. Luci tells everyone she’s pulling the plug, and they’re going dark. Victor says he’ll find a way to get them back. He doesn’t know how, but he will. The radio goes dead.

Sarah tells Victor, it will take too long get there, but there’s an airstrip north of where they are. She radios Wen, and asks if he remembers the airport where they jacked the planes. Victor isn’t optimistic, and Charlie says Victor told them they’d find a way. He says that was just to keep their spirits up. Sarah asks is he d*cking about daisies (a phrase I have never heard), or are they closing the deal? She thought he wanted to help them. Charlie says, so did she. Sarah says they’ve got the pieces, they just have to put them together. Victor says, it’s hopeless. Sarah says, Jimbo took one for the team; he took one hard. Don’t throw that hopeless horsesh*t in the air, and let it land on them. There has to be a way. Charlie asks Sarah if they got everything from Jim’s brewery. She shows Sarah a picture of Jim in a very busy add for his beer. Sarah says, son of a bitch. They’re going to get out.

Morgan meets Grace, and she asks for help moving the cars. She has to suit up and go in.

Al asks if June has heard anything from John, but June says he’s out of range. Al hopes the plane’s circuits aren’t fried. June asks if Al is okay, and Al says she should have kept the helicopter from taking off; they’d be home. June says, no way could she have done that. She asks if something happened when Al was missing. Al shakes her head, but I think June knows better. June says she asked to talk to Al once off the record, and Al let her talk. It helped her, more than Al knows. If Al needs to do the same, she can. June tells Al it’s the least she can do. Al sort of smiles, and says she has to check the battery.

Annie asks Alicia if the woman Morgan left with is from the power plant. Alicia reluctantly says, yeah, and Annie tells the boys, it’s not working. They can’t stay. Alicia says they can’t go back to hiding behind the dead. Annie says they were safe before, and Alicia says they can be safe now. Luci needs all the help she can get to finish the plane. Dylan says he can work, and Max agrees, but Annie says he’s not the one who has to decide. Alicia says they can make the decision together, but Annie says she has to decide for her brothers.

Dwight and John find a dead guy inside an empty diner. Dwight says he saw the guy the last time he was there. He’s been dead a while. Dwight points out that he was shot twice; once by the person who stole his food, and again by himself. John asked him why Shari doesn’t have her ring. She had to give it up to save him. She chose to give up everything for him. The only reason he’s still alive is because of her. He owes her his life. When he left where he was, he was sent away. The person who sent him knew the sh*t he’d done, but knew he loved her, so he said, find her and make it right. Even if can do the first thing, he doesn’t know if he can do the second, or if it’s even possible. John thinks more things are possible than impossible. He takes a food ticket down in the kitchen window. He finds a pencil, rubs it over the ticket and sees the note Shari left, that had been obscured by blood. Dwight is impressed, and John says he used to be a cop. I miss what the note says, but Dwight says he’s been looking down the wrong road the whole time. (I cheat, and check another recap – Shari said there was a storm coming, so she’s switching to country roads.)

Annie packs some cans of food. Alicia asks if the kids are just going to leave like they did before. She says there’s no way they can carry all that, and suggests they take one of the cars – if Annie tells her why they won’t go. Annie says Alicia won’t change her mind. Alicia says, then it won’t hurt to talk about it. Annie says they lived at the camp; her parents, her brothers, and a dozen other families. They found it after everything changed, and it was perfect; like it was built for what was going on. Alicia asks, what happened? and Annie says, a herd of growlers followed them back from a scavenging run. They took certain routes, and did other things to be careful, but they weren’t careful some of the time. That’s all it took. There were so many, and they didn’t look like regular growlers. The growlers were from the power plant, but they didn’t know it. More showed up, but the walls held – at first. The grown-ups got weapons ready for a fight, and when it looked like the walls were about to give, they sent the kids away. They had a spot in the woods that they were to run to, if things went bad. She took the kids there, and they waited; eating and crying in the dark. They tried to stay quiet. They’d done it before, and the grown-ups would come after a night or two, but she just knew. They waited and waited, and after three nights, she went back on her own. Alicia says, she saw them? Annie shakes her head, and says their parents weren’t dead. They killed all the growlers, but they were sick. Her mom and dad wouldn’t even let her come in; they had to talk through the door. They told her not to be afraid, and said they’d get better. They made her promise to stay where they were, and protect her brothers and everyone else. So that’s what she’s doing. Alicia says she gets it; she really does. She thinks about the last thing her mom said every day. Annie says so she understands why they can’t leave. Alicia tells her, just make sure she’s doing what they really asked. Annie asks what she means, and Alicia says, is she surrounding them with the dead to protect her brothers, or is it easier than surrounding herself with the living? Alicia sets the car keys on the counter, and says, all hers. It’s up to her whether she wants to use it. Annie watches Alicia leave. Man, I’d stick with Alicia. She’s pretty badass. Kind of like Addie on Z Nation, but not quite as cool.

Dwight looks at the car registration from Shari, as he and John go toward a cabin. He says she might still be there. John checks the car, while Dwight goes inside. John looks in a knapsack, but it’s empty. He checks the glove box, but nothing. He opens another compartment, and there’s an envelope with an eternity symbol on it. Inside, the note says that Shari had to kill someone. The man at the diner. He almost killed her. They’ve both seen too much, and she doesn’t like the thought of him looking for her. She doesn’t want him to get killed trying to find her. She wouldn’t be able to live with that happening. She asks him to stop looking. She gave him hope, but she wants to give him a chance to get out. This is the end of her trail. It’s the end of them. Don’t let it be the end of him. So he should find something to live for, and live. She’ll love him forever.

Morgan finds his old pokey stick wrapped in plastic, and Grace is like, no. He says the man who taught him how to use it, helped him when he thought death was the only way. He thought if he held the weight of it, he’d know what to say to help those kids – and her. To show them they’re not stuck. But it feels like a piece of wood in plastic. Grace says, wood that can hurt him, and he puts it back. She says she’s not stuck. It’s just over for her. He says she doesn’t know that’s true, but she says she has to do this. She has to give them more time. He asks where the other suit is, and she says, there isn’t one. She gets in her car, and locks it, saying, he can’t come. She’s not letting another person die because of her mistake. He says, there has to another way, but she says, there isn’t. He’s kind and thoughtful, and learned from his mistakes. She’s doing the same thing. She thanks him for helping with the roadblock, and drives away.

Luci find Alicia sitting in a car, and asks if she talked to Annie. Alicia says Annie thinks it’s all on her. She thinks she’s the only one who can protect them. Luci asks if Alicia is leaving, but she doesn’t know. Victor comes through on the radio. Luci answers, and he says, the dulcet tones of a songbird. She asks, where is he? and he says he told her he’d find a way. He’ll see her soon. They’ve got the props. Luci asks if they found a road, but he says, a road isn’t a necessary ingredient to this journey. Look up to the south. We look up to see Victor and Charlie in a hot air balloon, and I literally lol. It’s a huge bottle of Jimbo’s Augie beer. Victor says they’re clearing the runway as they speak. He radios Morgan, and asks if he sees it. He does, and Luci tells Alicia, the kids need to see this. Alicia runs in, but they’re gone. Alicia says, they took off. Morgan says, they need to find them quick. Grace is buying them time, but not a whole lot.

Dwight comes back out, and tells John that Shari wasn’t in there. He found food and supplies though. She was there. John told him when he met the others is when things started clicking with finding June. She’s close; he knows it. He says, she would have left a letter, and asks John if he found anything in the car. John says, no, like I thought he would. Dwight thanks him, and says it’s the closest he’s been to finding her in a long time. It’s everything.

Morgan asks Victor, how long before they touch down? Victor says sooner than he’d hoped. They’re low on fuel. Charlie tells Morgan to come and get them. Morgan asks if they have enough to clear the trees, and Charlie says they’re trying. Victor pulls on the ropes. Morgan tells him not to bring it down there. It’s not safe. It’s contaminated. Victor says, it’s the only way, and the balloon is gone.

Alicia goes to a blockade of the dead in the woods. She calls for Annie, Max, and Dylan. We see a zombie with its intestines hanging out. She radios Morgan, saying, she’s going in. She takes out her weapon. Morgan says, him too. He says if Victor and Charlie can hear him, stay where they are. Don’t kill any walkers. If their blood gets on them, they can die. He trots down the road.

Victor and Charlie see zombies filing out of the forest. Charlie tells Victor, stay away from the walkers. Which IMO, should be easy since they move so slow. The zombies stumble forward.

Next time, Morgan says they’re going to do what they came there to do, Alicia finds the kids, and Victor says they have to make a hasty retreat.

💒 What Fresh 90 Day Hell Is This…?

Interesting how I’d always thought Chantel, Pedro, and the families that go with them, often seem like they’re reading their lines. Maybe Pedro and Chantel were originally set up by Pedro’s mom Lydia, but perhaps the audience was set up too. The two families hate each other, so now they’re going to create a show together? Makes perfect sense. It also looks like the ever tired-looking Lydia, who jabbered about how no one was interested in a green card, will be looking for one.

General Hospital

Jax calls Carly from his new office, thanking her for how quickly it was done. She’s glad he likes it, since she gave her input on a few things. His 55 Porsche was just delivered, and he asks if he can take her out to lunch. She says she’s in the middle of something, and he asks if everything is okay. She says, everything is fine, but I don’t think he’s buying it.

Scotty sees Ava at the MetroCourt. She says she’s headed to Aurora. She’s giving Crimson and explicit interview and photo shoot. She’s going to be on the cover. He hopes they don’t do a hatchet job. She says Jax promised she could tell her side of the story, and she’s hopeful it will be cathartic. He’s glad she’s getting back on track. She says she is. She has more to accomplish to end the hell she’s living in. She tells him that her legal affairs are in order, but he says he’s not there as a lawyer. She says it means so much that he cares, but she doesn’t need a friend either. He says maybe he does.

At the hospital, Bobbie tells Epiphany that she worked out the conflicts, and she’s fully staffed. Epiphany thanks her, and Bobbie thanks Epiphany for helping her with her diagnosis. She found some excellent resources, and is going to be proactive in dealing with her diabetes. She hopes she does half as well as Epiphany has. Epiphany hopes she does better.

Elizabeth shows up at the art therapy room, where Franco is working on a painting. He pushes her back out, telling her, go away. She can’t be there.

On the phone at Charlie’s, Finn asks Anna how the search is going. He tells her, the WSB let Alex escape; shouldn’t they find her? He understands. It’s her sister; it’s her problem. He says Jordan is doing well. She’s having breakfast there right now. We see Jordan at a table with Stella, TJ, and Curtis.

Jordan can’t remember the last time she lingered over breakfast. If things were normal, she’d be at the station. Stella says she should take advantage of the time off, but Jordan wishes she was back at work. Finn stops by, and says in his humble medical opinion, she has everything she needs right there.

Carly tells Sonny she’s been doing research. She’s learning everything she can about spina bifida. A C-section is performed to prevent infection or nerve damage. Sonny says she doesn’t have to do this right now. She says, the more they know, the better they’ll be prepared. She wonders if their baby is born with a defect, can they handle it? He says it would have to be a reality first, but he knows they can handle it. They have the money, the resources, and the support system. They can do this. She says she hears him, and she’s’ grateful, but the reality is that it’s not a month or a week; it’s a lifetime. She’s not sure if she’s strong enough to face it and give the baby what it needs.

Chase thinks it’s good that Jordan is back in circulation, and Curtis says, don’t think she’s returning to work yet. Chase says the new guy has a lot to learn, but he’s bringing Mac along. Jordan says he has plenty of experience, and Curtis says Mac is doing a good job. Now he needs to get to his new job at Aurora. He tells Jordan to make sure she gets some rest, and stay clear of the PCPD. He’s looking good in a suit, and she tells him, make sure his co-workers know he’s married. Stella says she’s proud he’s stepping up, and he says she raised him that way. Finn and Chase leave, and Jordan says she’s glad they figured out how to be brothers. Stella says, they’re good people. Jordan says Chase is her best detective, and she owes her life to Finn. Stella says it won’t be long before they have their own doctor in the family. TJ is like, um… and she asks, what’s wrong? He says he’s been doing some thinking, and he’s not going back to med school this fall.

Finn and Chase sit at a booth. Finn says it sounded urgent, and Chase looks stressed. Chase wants Finn to talk him down before he breaks his girlfriend out of lock-up.

Ava asks Scotty, what’s wrong? and Scotty says he’s feeling lost after Gail’s passing. The scavenger hunt was supposed to make them feel her presence, but for him, it did the opposite. He should have visited her more, but knowing there if needed her… Ava asks if they can find a better time to talk, and he says, she, of all people, should understand. She says she does. He’s suffered a terrible loss, and doesn’t find life satisfying. He’s in the throes of a midlife crisis. It’s normal and predictable. She knows exactly what he needs. Scotty says he’s been waiting… She says he needs to do something for himself; something totally self-indulgent – a red Ferrari. He spends his time worrying about others, and no time having fun. Scotty says, that’s really not… and she says they’ll talk tomorrow, or the next day, and jets.

Franco tells Elizabeth, that came out wrong. He’s always happy see her, but inspiration is fleeting. Elizabeth says he’s really wired, and asks what he’s working on. He doesn’t want to show her, and asks if she let everyone know about the venue change. She assures him that she sent out the information. They’ll replace a horrible memory with a lovely memory, and be glad that their family and friends are there. He says he needs to spend time with his hot, sexy nurse, but she says the honeymoon will be over before the reception is even started. He kisses her. She leaves, and he makes a call, asking how soon someone can get there.

Ava goes to Jax’s office. He asks what outrageous demands is she there for? A personal masseuse from Sweden? While she thinks that’s a fine idea, she’s there to discuss the cover story. He says, it’s pretty straightforward. They pick the questions, and she answers them. She says, the interview is off. He says she signed a contract. She can’t back out. She says she has no intention of backing out. What’s good for Aurora is good for her. She wants to reschedule, since she has a pressing engagement that she can’t put off. He says the only pressing engagement is to get Crimson on the street. An alarm goes off, and Curtis walks in. He thought Jax was away. He’s testing a new security system. Don’t mind him. He’s testing the sensors, and then doing an investigation. Ava tells Jax that she intends to fulfill her obligation, but not today. Something unexpected came up. He says she can’t walk out at the last minute. The alarm goes off again.

Jordan says she thought TJ loved school; he’s at the top of his class. He says he’ll finish eventually, and Stella tells him, define eventually. He says he was talking to a headhunter. There are a lot of jobs in the medical field out there, and he intends toed pay own way. Jordan asks if he’s giving up school so she can pay her medical bills. She has two words – not happening.

Finn says Chase is planning a jailbreak? What did the schoolmarm do now? Not pay a parking ticket? Chase says she refused to disclose her child’s whereabouts, and was jailed for contempt. Finn says he’s sorry. Chase didn’t tell him that Willow had a child. Chase says, it’s not his story to tell. Now it’s a matter of public record. Willow had a son who she gave up at birth. Finn takes it the father is the abusive ex, and Chase says, he wants custody. Finn supposes he has rights, but Chase says, he shouldn’t be in the same room. He believes in the system, but in this case, the system failed.

Scotty goes to the art therapy room, and Franco says he was looking for him. He has a surprise for Elizabeth. He shows Scotty the painting, and Scotty is sure she’ll like it. Franco says, it’s kind of a mess; love will do that to you. Scotty says he wouldn’t know. Franco wants to make sure Scotty is at his wedding, and tells him to feel free to bring a plus one. Scotty says, that would be difficult. He’s minus one and counting.

Elizabeth asks Bobbie if she knows about the change of venue for the wedding. She’s counting on Bobbie and Epiphany being there. Bobbie says she’ll do her best, and Epiphany says it will do her good. Elizabeth asks if there’s something wrong with a patient. Bobbie says, yes and no. The patient is her. She tested positive for type two diabetes.

Carly apologizes, telling Sonny that she’s just trying to be realistic. If the condition is severe, it will be so much more to perform basic tasks. Sonny says she’s going to the worst case. The doctor said not to jump to conclusions. Carly asks what they do until then, and he says, don’t look on the internet. It’s full of frightening possibilities, and their situation is probably not any of them.

TJ says, medical school can wait. He’s not giving up. There are lots of openings, and when he has enough money… Jordan says, absolutely not, and Stella says there are many gifted people out there to fill those jobs, but they’re in desperate need for doctors who have the calling he does. Jordan says she’ll be returning to work soon, Curtis has the new job, and the medical bills will get paid. Stella says, there’s no quitting this thing. Starting now, Dr. Ashford.

Chase tells Finn, it kills him to see Willow behind bars when that SOB is running around free. Finn says Anna would have more insight, but she’s searching for Alex. She’s a fugitive, and Anna wants to be the one to bring her in. Chase gets it. It’s a sibling thing. Finn says the last time she went on a solo mission, she didn’t come back.

Franco asks Scotty what the problem is, and Scotty says he wants companionship. It’s easy to go to a bar and make conversation, have dinner. His trips to Vegas were all smoke and mirrors; they mean nothing. He wants what Franco has; Elizabeth and the kids. Franco asks if he wants Cameron now, and Scotty says, forget kids. What he wants is a girl who can knock back a couple of martinis. Someone who knows who Dirty Harry is; who Deborah Harry is. Someone who can quote a line from Jaws. Is that too much to ask? Franco doesn’t know why Scotty is talking to him. It sounds like he should talk to Ava.

Ava tells Jax the meeting is vital. What difference does it make if they reschedule? He says she runs a gallery. She must realize the preparation involved. He arranged for Sydney Val Jean, the New York editor of Crimson, to conduct the interview. She asks what kind of interview he’s going to get if she’s forced to be there. He asks Curtis, how much longer? and Curtis says, forty minutes to an hour. He wants to give his personal attention to Jax’s office. Ava says she left something in the restaurant, and has to go. Jax says he’ll ride with her. Curtis closes the door behind them, and begins looking around.

Carly knows Sonny is right. All those times they applauded the kids in the Special Olympics and their parents; this time it’s them, their kid, their family. She knows they’ve faced health issues with the kids before, and knows they can face this. Carly puts her head in her hands, and Sonny says they can. They just have to be honest about what they’re getting themselves into. There might be nights and days they can’t give their child 100% of what they need. Carly thinks he’s forgetting something else. How much they need this child, and how much this special child is going to give them.

Scotty tells Franco, there was a time he thought he and Ava had something, but it didn’t work out. They’re still friends. She thinks he should get a Ferrari. Franco says, classic red, and Scotty says he’s not having a cliché midlife crises. If he was going to do that, he’d be dating go-go girls. He wants to feel needed, like when Bobbie fainted. She collapsed, and he got her to the hospital. It felt good, like he was there for her. Franco says it sounds like Scotty needs to get out of the fast lane, and find someone to share an RV, who knows the words to the songs he knows, and is comfortable on the back sideroads he likes to take. Scotty says maybe he should date the voice of his GPS. Franco tells him, stay open to possibility. Life is full of surprises.

Elizabeth says good thing Bobbie saw Lucas. Bobbie says he wouldn’t let her convince him it was no big deal. Epiphany says, they’re nurses, and it’s easy to be dismissive of the tell-tale signs in themselves. Bobbie says, looking back, she was in denial, but not anymore. She doesn’t want to put her heart at risk or have another episode like yesterday. She saw Lucas and Brad with her grandson, and it’s all the reminder she needed to make her want to stick around for her family. Elizabeth says, and for them. She’s irreplaceable.

Stella says she promised Curtis she would get Jordan home to rest. She tells TJ to call the headhunter back. He’s staying in med school. Jordan tells TJ, neither one of them has a choice. Stella says, accept your fate. She looks at her phone, and says she’s got a message from the genealogy website. TJ asks if she’s checking her ancestry, and she says it occurred to her that she wanted to know her relatives.

Finn tells Chase that he and Anna talk every day. He’ll never trust a digital message again. Chase says after Finn got the bogus texts, he went off to find her. Finn says he was forced to wake up Cassandra. He never wants to go through that again, and Cassandra is still out there. Chase says he and Robert teamed up to rescue them, but Finn says, by that point, they rescued themselves, but he’s not going to argue.

Curtis talks to himself, saying, Jax keeps information on business allies. He looks through some folders. He pulls one out, and says, interesting read. The label says, Valentin Cassadine. He sees a folder for Cassandra Pierce, and says, what have we here?

Ava tells Jax that she promises to make it up to him for the inconvenience. He’ll get the interview of a lifetime, and so will his readers. She’ll tell them everything they want to know. He says she’ll have to reach for a better excuse for breaching the contract. She says, if he must know, she’s meeting her late daughter, with the help of a psychic. They’re completely legit. She got the idea from his daughter. Jax says, Josslyn? Ava says, Josslyn had a séance, and reached out to Oscar. She was convinced he reached back. People do make contact. He asks if there’s no other time, and she says she’s committed to the Crimson deal; it’s not off. He tells her, don’t be so sure, and she asks which he would rather have, a lawsuit or a cover interview? He says, she has him there. He’ll let her reschedule once, but if she tries it again, she’ll see him in court.

Elizabeth asks Franco if she’s interrupting again, and he kisses her. She says, whatever he’s working on, don’t stop. Franco asks if she ever stops and thinks how lucky they are. Some people live their whole lives without what they have; the feelings, and really seeing each other and not being scared. Elizabeth says she was thinking the same thing about Bobbie. She’s going through a tough time, and is going to need all their love and support.

Bobbie sees Scotty riding a scooter in the hospital (see link below for the explanation). She thanks him again for his help, and he says, that’s what friends are for. She says she’s going to need all the friends she can get. He says he kind of overheard Lucas talking to her. It’s not just about missing a meal, is it? Bobbie explains that she has type two diabetes. It puts her at risk for a stroke, heart attack, and other fun ways to go. She has to learn to live healthier. She wants to stick around. Scotty says it has silver lining. She doesn’t have to face it by herself.

Jordan asks if Stella got a potential DNA match, and Stella says they say that to drum up business. TJ says, not necessarily, but you have to pay for a follow-up. You can learn more about your background. Stella says she’s more concerned about where she’s going, not where she’s from. TJ says, what if it’s someone famous, but she doesn’t care if it’s Cleopatra. In their family, DNA means do not argue.

Chase wonders how Finn got stuck being involved in a criminal enterprise that had shady associates like Valentin Cassadine.

Curtis photographs Valentin’s folder. He hears Jax coming, and puts everything back. Jax walks in, and asks what he’s doing.

Bobbie tells Scotty that she’s feeling better, but Scotty says he’s not just there for moral support. She says, it’s too late for breakfast and too early for lunch. She has to do homework about what foods she should eat. Scotty says she doesn’t have to do anything alone. She says that’s sweet, but she has to go. He says, there was a time when they were more than friends. Maybe they can recapture that again in an RV, going down the highway of life. There will be holes and flat tires, but all she has to do is say yes. He’d get down on one knee, but he already is. Will she marry him?

Elizabeth wants to look at Franco’s new painting, but he stops her, saying she can’t see it. She says he’s in a good mood, and he says the first time they were supposed to get married, there was an earthquake. Then the next time, he was behind bars. The third time’s the charm. They’re finally getting their happy ending. She says they get to live their happily ever after.

Someone books a flight from Paris to Port Charles. Cassandra?

TJ encourages Stella to follow up on the genealogy. He says it’s fascinating what you can find.

Chase tells Finn that he knows he’s walking a tightrope between duty and his feelings. Finn knows it well. It’s not easy for him to balance life between the Hippocratic Oath, and life with an ex-WSB agent. They tell each other, good luck, and Chase leaves

Jax asks if Curtis found any breaches in security. Curtis says, there are a few blind spots in surveillance that he’ll need to eliminate. He’s thinking motion sensors. Jax says, he’s the expert. Whatever he thinks. Curtis says he’s putting together a proposal of the changes he wants to make. Jax will have an overall picture tomorrow. Curtis leaves, and breathes a sigh of relief when he gets out in the hallway.

On the phone, Ava says she’s running late, but they’d know that since they’re a psychic. Yeah, sorry. They probably do hear it all the time. She’s nervous, but she’s taking this seriously; she promises. She’ll come prepared. She takes a picture of Kiki out of her bag.

Carly tells Sonny, it’s like the like situation with Mike. It was a lot on them. Sonny says, there’s so much joy and love he’s given them. Carly says Sonny found Mike after all these years. Sonny says there’s been laughter and tears, and it pisses him off. He didn’t know Alzheimer’s would take away Mike’s defenses, and he’d see who Mike is underneath. He’s a good man with a big heart who loves his family. Carly says she loves him a lot, and Sonny says he wouldn’t trade Mike for anything. Like he wouldn’t trade what they had with Morgan. Carly says, at times, it might be heartbreaking, but this child isn’t a mistake or a statistic. It’s a gift. She has to believe that there’s a reason they’re having this baby, even if they don’t know what it is. They’ll believe in it together. No matter what. Sonny takes her hand, and says, no matter what. She says she loves him, and they kiss. She says she’s scared, and he says, so is he.

Tomorrow, Neil says he can no longer treat Alexis, Scotty suggests he and Bobbie get hitched, and Sonny tells someone they know what happens to people who double-cross him.

The Haves and The Have Nots

Jeffrey changes David’s bandages. He says he’s not as good as Madison. David should have him come back. He’s not a nurse. David says he’s fine, but Jeffrey says it wasn’t Madison’s fault; it was his, so let him come back. Jeffrey offers to call, and David says, tomorrow. He says Madison seems to like Jeffrey. Does Jeffrey like him? Jeffrey says, he’s okay, and David says he’d rather see Jeffrey with somebody like Madison than that punk. Jeffrey says, mom took care of that. She had him beaten and raped. He tells David not to act like he feels sorry. David says he doesn’t, but Jeffrey says, Justin is still a human being. David says Justin hit Jeffrey’s mother, and she felt the need to teach him a lesson. Jeffrey says she almost had Justin killed. What does David think she’s going to do to him? She’s ruthless. David knows. Jeffrey asks if he’s ready, and David says he made a few stops. Veronica’s gang busts in.

David tells Jeffrey, on the floor, and Jeffrey pulls a gun out from under the bed. David pulls guns out of every conceivable place. About ten guys are in the house, and they shoot back and forth. Veronica waits outside in her black leather, and says, that’ll teach you to try to kill me. You won’t be killing anyone else any time soon, sweetheart, you son of a bitch. She crunches out her cigarette with her boot, and walks into the darkness.

Mitch goes to the Cryer house, and asks if Jim has the package. Jim tells him, hang on. Wyatt come down, and Mitch tells him that it’s his lucky day, and to kiss his father for this. Jim gives Mitch an envelope. Mitch says, $75K? and Jim says, as requested. Mitch says, good man. Jim wants to confirm that nobody is going to try to kill his son. Mitch says as soon as he gets the money to his uncle. Jim asks how he’ll know the job is done, and Mitch tells him, because he said so. They shake, and Mitch suggest he get that son of his some help. Jim thanks him. After Mitch leaves, Wyatt asks if he heard right. Jim paid Mitch $75K? That’s a lot for $5K of coke. Jim says Wyatt had a special problem, and it took a lot of money to fix it. Wyatt says he’ll get the money back when Jim dies. Jim asks if Wyatt thinks he’s in Jim’s will. Wyatt says, and mom’s, and Jim says Wyatt will probably die before they do at the rate he’s going. Wyatt doubts that. He asks if he can go out, and Jim says, tomorrow he’s hauling Wyatt’s ass upstate and into rehab, and he’s staying there. Wyatt is going if Jim has to drag him by the balls. Wyatt smiles, and Jim tells him, go to his room. Wyatt says he’s an adult, and Jim says, act like one. Wyatt pats Jim’s face, and goes upstairs. slamming the door to his bedroom.

Still in bed, Broderick asks where Kathryn is going. She says she has to go home. She wishes she could stay. He asks if it’s her husband, but she says she’s not worried about him. He says, then stay, and she says she can’t. She likes him. He says he likes her too, and she asks, why? He says she’s beautiful, sexy, amazingly smart… Kathryn interjects, and rich? and he says, it doesn’t hurt. She asks if he’d like her if she was broke. He asks if she’d be this loving and kind if she was broke, and she says, yes. He says, then yes; he would. She says she’ll be back tomorrow, and he says he’ll wait right there. She says, in this bed, looking like that? and he says, yep. I hope he gets out of bed to go to the bathroom. They kiss, and she extracts herself, saying, she’s leaving. He thanks her.

Veronica goes to the hospital to visit Justin. She finds his room, and says, damn, girl. He tells her, get out of here, but she says she just wanted to sit with him, and check on her handiwork. She likes it. He tells her, get out, and she says, or…? Is he going to hit her? He says she’s wicked, and she admits she is. She just wanted him to know that wasn’t official. There’s so much more to come. He says, please, and she says, the girl begs. He says, he’s sorry; he’ll leave Jeffrey alone. She says, that part was supposed to come before. He says he’s gone through a lot. Please. She says, please what? Does it hurt? She knows what they did because they did what she told them to. Justin says again that he’s sorry. She tells him, repeat after her, I’m sorry for hitting the queen. She’s not talking Jeffrey, but herself. Justin keeps repeating, I’m sorry, and she tells him, stop begging. He sounds like a little bitch. He says she ruined hi life, and she says he ruined his own life. He wouldn’t leave her son alone. Justin says he was just trying to love Jeffrey, and Veronica says, sick sh*t. It will get him hurt again. She can’t wait for him to taste what’s coming. She touches his face, then wipes her hand on his hospital gown. She’s going to let him heal up before the second round. She grabs his face, and says, next time he thinks about hitting a real bad bitch, think again.

Madison comes in, and asks what she’s doing. She says visiting a sick friend, but Madison says Justin isn’t her friend. She says, all queens are her friends. Justin says he asked her to leave, and Veronica asks if he likes Madison now. Get together, and leave her son alone. Madison says he’s asking her again, get out of here. In the hallway, she tells him to get fillers. He’s looking old. Older than her, and she’s twice his age. She says, goodbye, girl, and saunters off. Madison goes back, and asks Justin if he’s okay. Justin says, no; she’s going to kill him. Madison says he’ll let security know. Justin says he knows Madison hates him. He has every right to, but Justin just loves Jeffrey. He’s so sorry for what he did to Madison. He’ll never understand what Justin is going through. He lost everything because of Jeffrey. Madison is sure it’s hard, but Justin had no right to do what he did. Justin apologizes again, and Madison says, okay. Justin asks if Madison can stay for a while. Madison says he’s fine. Justin pleads with Madison, but he closes the door. Alone, Justin says he’s just misunderstood.

RK calls to Wyatt, and throws rocks at the window. Wyatt comes out on the balcony, and RK tells him, throw down the earrings. Wyatt does, and RK says, damn nice. He throws the package of coke up to Wyatt, who makes another great catch. Wyatt says, what the hell? They’re getting smaller and smaller. RK says if he’d throw money down instead of damn jewelry… Jim comes out and asks what Wyatt is doing out there. He sees RK, and asks, what’s going on? RK says he left something in the car. Jim says he’s coming down, and Wyatt tells RK to go. RK says he’s not scared; he’s a blackbelt in karate. He’s got this. Jim comes out, and tells RK, remind him again why he’s there. RK repeats that he left something in the car. Jim asks if he brought something to his son. RK says he was in the neighborhood, and was saying hi to Wyatt. Jim says he’s lying. What’s in his hand? RK shows Jim the earrings, and Jim asks if Wyatt gave those to him. RK asks if he can’t have ten carat earrings, and Jim says twenty carat; he paid for them himself. Wyatt yells down that RK stole them, and Jim says, call the cops. RK says, go ahead. Wyatt has coke in his room. Wyatt says he’ll say RK stole the earrings. Jim says it’s a fact that RK brought drugs to his son. RK says it’s a fact that Wyatt wanted him to bring drugs. Jim says if RK ever brings his son drugs again, he’ll have him murdered. RK says, fair enough, and Jim says, get the hell out.

Kathryn pulls into the driveway. She sees RK leaving, and asks, what was that about? Jim asks where she’s been, and she says, out with her men. Jim goes inside, and she runs in behind him.

Wyatt sits in his room. Jim asks, where is it? Wyatt says he doesn’t have any drugs. Kathryn comes in, and asks, what’s going on? Jim tells her, check her jewelry cabinet. Wyatt has been trading her jewelry for drugs. Wyatt says Jim shouldn’t have taken his money. Jim pushes Wyatt. Kathryn tries to intervene, and gets pushed back by Wyatt. Wyatt and Jim get in a mini shoving match, and Jim says, don’t touch his mother. He tells Wyatt, sit. For once, do what he’s asking. In the hallway, Jim tells Kathryn, calm down. Does she see what he’s dealing with? Because if she had been a better mother, he wouldn’t have to deal with this sh*t. She says if he doesn’t get out of her face, she’ll push him off the balcony. He asks her to please check and see how much jewelry she’s missing.

Wyatt hears them go down the hall, and gets the coke out from under his mattress. He goes into the bathroom.

Hanna, Benny, and Candace clear the table after dinner. There’s a knock at the door. Hanna says, if it’s Derrick, don’t let him in. Benny asks what he did, and she says, just do it. He says, she’s not telling him, is she? It’s Mitch at the door, and Benny goes outside. Mitch says Benny owes him. Benny says, what? and Mitch says, his damn life. He got the money; Jim paid him off. Benny asks what Mitch is talking about, and Mitch says he’s got the money in the car. Benny asks how he did it, and Mitch says, don’t worry; he’s got it. Benny owes him. They bro hug, and Mitch says Benny is the only family he trusts.

Candace asks Hanna what Derrick did, but Hanna says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Candace knows the feeling. Hanna hopes she doesn’t. Candace says, they’re all dogs. Hanna says, not all of them. That would include her brother. Candace says they take your heart, play with it, make you fall for them, and then they dump you. Hanna says, that’s not what happened. Candace says Hanna liked him more than she’s liked anyone in years. Hanna asks how she knew that, and Candace says she can tell. She’s Hanna’s daughter, and knows her. Charles told her that he wanted to be there for her. They stayed in D.C., and he took her to the White House. It made her feel special. Hanna says, he raped her.

Candace says, this is the second time it happened to Hanna? It happened a lot to Candace, since she was seven. Hanna says it was her first time. Candace says didn’t Hanna say Candace’s father raped her? Hanna says, yes, and Candace says she doesn’t understand. Hanna says, he’s the man who did it. Derrick is her father. She had no idea until she saw the tattoo on his chest. She says Candace can’t tell Benny, and Candace says, okay. Hanna says Derrick didn’t remember her. He went to jail, got hooked on drugs, got out, got clean, and changed his whole life around, but he didn’t remember her face. Candace says that was her father? and Hanna says, yes. She says she’s sorry, and Candace asks what she’s sorry for. Hanna says she didn’t know all that stuff was happening to Candace. Candace says it made her stronger. Hanna says, it made her evil. She’s not trying to go there; she’s just saying. It made Candace evil to every man. Candace says she could get them before they got her. It worked until she gave her heart.

Mitch tells Benny that he got it done, and Benny says, it’s a load off. Mitch has to get the money back to his uncle, and end this. He saw the news about Candace. Benny says, she’s inside, and Mitch asks if he can say hi real quick, but Benny doesn’t think she’s up for it. Mitch says he’ll give Benny a shout when it’s handled. Tell Candace to keep her head up. Benny goes back inside. Hanna tells Candace, don’t say nothin’.

Benny asks, what’s wrong? and Hanna says they were just talking about women’s issues. Benny’s not buying it, and Candace asks if he has anything for cramps. She’s on her period. He doesn’t know what he walked in on, but Mitch took care of the issue with his uncle. Hanna says they just have to give Jim back the money, and it will all be over. Candace says, yes, it will. Hanna says, it’s a great start, and Candace says, amen. Hanna has to get up early. She’s got a job offer, and she’s starting at the Artisian. She goes upstairs.

Benny says they were talking about that dude, and Candace says, no. They were talking about periods. He says he’s got it. He thinks Candace should keep the money, but she says, no. He says, it’s $8 million, but she says, it’s not worth it. He says, keep it, and she says, do what with it? He says it’s enough that she’ll never have to look back, and Candace says, just over her shoulder. What about Jim? He’ll come after Benny. Benny says he can handle Jim’s bitch ass; keep the money. She says she can’t. She’s done. He says if he wakes up in the morning, and she’s gone, he won’t blame her. He washes the dishes, and says he loves her. She loves him too.

Mitch goes to the Iron Bone. He says he has something for Vinnie. Fifty G’s for the Cryer kid. Vinnie says, he got it? He laughs, and says Mitch did good. Mitch appreciates that, and now Vinnie can call off whoever. Vinnie tells dude whose name I don’t know to get Will on the phone. They’re calling it off. Dude can’t believe it, and Mitch says he got that done. There’s something else. He slides another stack of bills over to Vinnie, and says, that, my friends is twenty G’s for Benny. He got that done too. Now call it off. Vinnie says Benny owes him five grand for being late. Mitch slides yet one more stack across the table, and says, that, my friends, is five grand. Vinnie sniffs the money, and asks where the kid got the money. Mitch says, good question. He doesn’t know. Vinnie says he’s been thinking he wants more, but Mitch says, ask again, and he’s calling Mama Rose. Don’t get greedy. He’s got the money; call it off. Vinnie says, all right, and dude dials. He tells Will that the Cryer kid and Black kid – Mitch says, Benny Young – it’s called off. Vinnie says, it’s done. Mitch has to get going. Vinnie asks if he doesn’t want his cut, but Mitch says, no. Vinnie says, it’s family money. Mitch says he’s good; keep it. Dude says he can’t keep running from the family. Mitch says they keep trying to pull him back in, but it ain’t gonna happen. He tells Vinnie to keep the envelope for his bank. Vinnie says he’ll be there waiting. Dude says, for Mitch and his raggedy ass car. Mitch says, one day he’ll buy a new one with his own money. Vinnie says he’ll be back. Dude says he’d better be. Well, he seems to be the only one not just hanging around the bar all day.

Jim discusses something financial on the phone. Kathryn is getting ready for a bath, when Derrick calls. Kathryn says she didn’t know he’d raped someone, and asks if it was only one. He says, yes. In his bedroom, Wyatt takes out the gun. Kathryn asks Derrick, why he did it, and he says he was high. He’s sick about it. Saying how sorry he is doesn’t help. She says he’s Candace’s father, and he says, oh my God. She says she’s sorry. She thought Hanna told him.

Wyatt approaches Jim from behind. Jim is telling someone they have to stay cool and collected. Where is she? Wyatt cocks the gun. Jim turns around, and says, what the hell?  Wyatt calls him a son of a bitch, and Jim yells, stop! but Wyatt shoots him, and he drops to the floor. Kathryn hears the shot, and says, what the hell was that? She runs out and part way downstairs. She sees Wyatt with the gun, and calls for Jim. Wyatt starts to head upstairs, and she runs. He cocks the gun. She stumbles, but keeps going. She runs into the bathroom and cowers, asking him, please. He shoots her, and she falls into the tub.

We hear sirens. George’s car pulls up to the Cryer’s house, followed by a squad car. George gets out, along with a couple of cops. Wyatt comes out on the porch, and George asks where are his parents? Wyatt says, dead. He brings the gun out from behind his back and holds it in the air. They shoot him.

🌴 Tonight’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was basically a series of clips surrounding LVP’s lie detector test and Camille’s wedding. To make it seem fresh, they retitled it Behind the Episode 915. Obviously no recap necessary. It will be the same deal for The Real Housewives of New York City on July 4th.
