What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Anna comes downstairs, and Valentin is gone, but there’s a huge bouquet of roses. She looks at the card, and reads, my darling Anna. Back to work at ELQ, but every day I wake up beside you is heaven. Love, Valentin. She holds it to her chest, and there’s a knock at the door. Holly says she’s sorry for not calling. She hopes she’s not interrupting, and Anna asks if it would have stopped her anyway. Holly says she’s afraid not. She really needs Anna’s help. Anna asks how she can refuse Holly anything after what she did to bring Victor down, and Holly says she hopes Anna means that, because she needs a job.

Felicia and Mac have breakfast at the MetroCourt, and Felicia asks if he knows how much she lives for this. He says, coffee and croissants? but she says, quality time with her husband. She closes her eyes, waiting for a kiss, but he’s looking at his phone. She asks, what happened to the romantic man she married? and he says he’s sorry. He sent about a dozen messages to his brother, and Robert hasn’t bothered texting him back. She says, Robert’s had his hands full lately, and he says, with what? Diane walks in, and Mac asks if she’d mind joining them for a moment. She says, of course (🍷). What’s it about? Mac says, his brother.

Robert tells the desk sergeant that he’s expecting something from Judge Thomas, but the sergeant says, there’s nothing here marked DA Scorpio. Robert says, then he’d expect a degree of initiative at this point. They can track it down. It’s important. Dante asks, what’s going on? and Robert says he put in for a warrant; it should be here by now. Dante says, maybe he can look into it. What’s the warrant for? Robert says he’s pursuing a violation of the RICO act, and Dante says, racketeering, huh? Robert says he prefers to call it enterprise corruption, and Dante asks if he’s familiar with the location of the alleged operation. Robert says, you can hardly miss it. It’s got a big sign above the door that says, The Savoy.

Curtis does some paperwork at the club, and gets a text from Agent Hursley: Offer still stands. The WSB wants you. Selina sits down across from him, and says, welcome home, stranger. Where’s the tickertape parade in his honor? He says, The Savoy’s closed. All he wants to do this morning is go over last night’s receipts, and she says, so it’s back to normal, is it? She can’t blame him after what he’s been through. The Invader painted quite a vivid picture. But look at the bright side. He may be rewarded for his heroism, and she doesn’t mean a key to the city. He asks what she does mean, and she says, from what she understands, his reward might be a brave and beautiful daughter.

Trina tells a lab tech that she’s been waiting for an hour to take a DNA test, and the tech apologizes, saying, it shouldn’t be too much longer. Trina says, that’s what she was told half an hour ago, and Spencer appears. He says he’s sure they can find a way to expedite the process. Trina is way too fine of a person to mention this, but her mother actually works at the hospital – Dr. Portia Robinson. Trina says she’s not looking for any special favors, and Spencer says, but they’ll take them if she has them. The tech says she’ll see what she can do, Spencer thanks her, and she leaves. Trina says she doesn’t need him fighting her battles, but he says he thought they agreed they’d fight for each other back on the Haunted Star.

Ava meets Portia at the MetroCourt, and says she came as soon as she could. Portia said she wanted to talk about Trina. Is she okay? Portia says, she’s fine, and Ava says she’s so relieved Trina came through that nightmare in Greenland without so much as a scratch. Portia says, by some miracle. That’s why she asked Ava to meet her here today. She plans on keeping her daughter safe and sound. Ava says she’s all for that. How can she help? Portia says, that’s exactly what she wanted to hear.

Laura invites Alexis into the apartment, and thanks her for coming over. She could use all the help she can get right now. Alexis says she understands, and give her a gift for Ace. She assumes he might be a bit tired after the adventure in Greenland. Laura says, he’s doing absolutely fine. It’s his mom who’s turning out to be quite a handful. Alexis asks if her memory has come back yet, but Laura says, no. It’s not about that. They sit down, and Laura says, she and Doc have done everything they can to make Esme feel at home here. To be honest, she thinks Spencer’s done the same thing, but… Esme comes out from the back, and heads for the door, and Laura says, look who stopped by? It’s Ace’s Aunt Alexis. Esme says she’s sorry. It’s a bad time; she and Ace were just leaving. Laura asks where she’s going, and Esme says, does it matter? Anywhere but here. Laura says she realizes the apartment doesn’t afford Esme much privacy, but she can’t just take off for parts unknown. Esme says, why not? She has her baby; he’s all that matters to her. Plus, the charges pending against her were dropped, so what’s to stop her? Laura says, let’s start with, where is she going, and how is she going to get there? She doesn’t have a car. And how will she pay for all of it? Esme says she has a trust fund, and Laura says, which she doesn’t have access to. She remembers that, right? Esme says, right. Her trustees pulled the plug because of people saying she’s a terrible person, but they can’t keep her money from her forever, can they? Alexis says, it’s complicated, and Esme asks, why? She’s not the same person she was when she did those things. They have to give her what’s hers, right? Laura says, yes, but in the meantime, she has to think about her baby. She has to put his needs first. Can she do that? Future Oscar contender Baby Ace starts crying.

Trina says, she and Spencer were fighting for their lives on the Haunted Star. She’s just trying to take a DNA test and get to her afternoon classes. She doesn’t know why it’s taking so long. All they’ve got to do is swab her cheek, and compare the DNA with the DNA tests from Curtis and her father. It’s not a big deal. Spencer says he thinks if Curtis turns out to be her dad, it is a big deal. Trina says, if that’s the case, Curtis will be her biological father. No matter what the test says, Marcus Taggert will always be her dad. Spencer says, she’s still facing the possibility that she could be Curtis Ashford’s daughter.

Curtis asks what gives Selina the idea that he and Trina… She says, could be related by blood? It’s not exactly a state secret. Especially if one knows people who know people who work at the GH lab. He says, right. Her nephew used to work there. She tells him, Trina is a lovely young woman. Also very brave, given everything she’s been through; being arrested, going on trial, only to be acquitted. Not to mention the latest adventure they shared on the high seas. To learn he was her biological father would be a very happy ending to that story… but perhaps he doesn’t want that.

Portia says, Trina thinks of Ava as a wonderful mentor, and Ava says she’d like to think she and Trina are friends as well. Portia says, that’s why she asked Ava to meet with her this morning. She’s wondering if Ava could help her out with Trina. Ava says, so she and Trina haven’t patched things up yet? and Portia says, when Trina came back from Greenland, she got a nice, big hug. That was wonderful, but after the initial reunion, things are still strained between them. So Trina’s not going to listen to her or her input. She’s concerned about some of the choices Trina’s making, and thinks Trina is going to get into trouble. Ava says she’d love to help if she can. What choice is Portia referring to? Portia says, the one Trina made to be with Spencer Cassadine.

Diane tells Mac that she doesn’t keep tabs on Robert outside the courtroom. She doesn’t know what he does. Mac asks if she spoke with him this morning. He understands they’ve been texting a lot. Diane says, he means about the pending case? and Mac says, of course (🍷). What else would he mean?

Dante asks why the DA’s office is interested in Curtis’s nightclub; it’s a legit operation. Robert says he’s not accusing Curtis of anything, except maybe a questionable choice of friends; one of them being Selina Wu. Dante asks if Curtis and Selina are in business together, and Robert flashes back to seeing Selina with Holly. Dante asks if the chief knows about this, and Robert asks an officer, where’s his warrant? The officer says he’s sorry; it’s not ready yet. Robert slams his hand down on the nearest desk.

Anna asks what kind of job Holly is looking for, and Holly says she was thinking about getting back into the spy game. She was hoping Anna could put in a good word for her at the WSB. Anna says, that’s what got Holly involved with Victor in the first place. Robert nearly lost his mind with grief searching for her; from here to Monte Carlo, from Monte Carlo to forever. Holly says, happily, Victor is dead, and Anna says, but they both know there are other people out there like him. Why would she want to put herself through that, not to mention Robert? Holly says, the last thing she wants would be to hurt Robert, and Anna says, so stay out; stay safe. She can assure Holly, the rush of espionage is not worth the downside. Holly says she doesn’t want the job for the rush. She needs the money.

Anna sets a tea service on the coffee table, and Holly says, a proper tea! As Anna pours, Holly says she needs money to help her son. Anna says, Ethan’s in trouble again – already? and Holly says, her son has a bit of a Robin Hood complex. Anna says, he steals from the rich and gives to the poor? and Holly says, minus a small commission. Some of the rich he’s robbed from aren’t very happy. They either want the money back, or they want Ethan killed. So he’s gone back to Australia. He knows the players there; they have deep pockets. Her son is better at cards than anyone she’s ever seen; better than her and his father. But if he makes enough to pay back the people who want to kill him… Anna says, he risks making another loser who’ll want revenge, and Holly says, if she doesn’t settle his debts, her beautiful son is a dead man walking.

Diane tells Mac, let’s just say, Robert has some issues he needs to work out, and Mac says, what kind of issues? She says, if he wants answers to questions like that, he’ll have to ask his brother. She leaves, and Mac says, there’s more to this story, and he’s going to get some answers. Felicia says, Diane is right. He needs to talk to his brother. Ask Robert what’s going on.

Esme tells Laura, Ace is her whole world. There isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for him, but she also needs her freedom, and her independence. Living in a place where people are constantly looking at her sideways and waiting for her to commit a crime is suffocating. Laura says she can appreciate that, and promises Esme’s life is going to get better. She just has to be a little patient. Esme says she has been patient. Laura and Doc have been very generous to let her and Ace live here for free, but that also means Spencer is constantly looking at her, and making her second guess every decision she makes with her son. When does she get to live her life on her own terms? Alexis says, perhaps there’s a way to make that happen. If Esme truly means what she says.

Portia tells Ava, to be clear, she doesn’t think Spencer is going to follow in his great uncle’s footsteps. She doesn’t think he’s interested in world domination. To her, it seems like he follows in the footsteps of his father. Just like Nikolas, Spencer is entitled. He’s reckless. And what’s of most concern to her is the content of his character. Just like his father. What kind of man sleeps with his son’s girlfriend? A Cassadine. Someone who’s entitled, spoiled, oblivious to consequences. That’s why she’s so afraid for Trina. Ava says, for what it’s worth (🍷), if Nikolas didn’t come back to town for the birth of his own son, she doesn’t think he’s coming back at all. So his influence over Spencer is done. Portia says, it’s too late. Spencer’s already had 18 or 19 years of bad parenting. The damage is done. Spencer is who he is, and he’s a danger to Trina. She throws all common sense out the window, which she never used to do. And she jumped on that damn boat, and almost died. Portia needs Ava’s help to make Trina see reason. Ava says she understands. She has her own regrets about becoming involved with the Cassadine family. She loves Trina, so she has to be honest with Portia. She thinks Portia would be smarter to not move against Spencer.

Curtis asks what Selina is implying, and she says she’s not trying to suggest he wouldn’t be proud to call Trina his daughter. The way she sees it, it’s not who Trina is that’s the issue. It’s the strings that bind her to her mother. Does he really need that complication in his life right now? He tells her to spit it out. What is she driving at? She says, as she told him, she has access to the labs at GH. She can make that DNA test result go any way he wants.

Curtis asks why he’d tamper with DNA results. That’s just compounding one lie with another. Trina is a wonderful young woman who he loves very much already. Selina says, all true, but he used to be a risk taker; a man who lived on the edge and liked it. Perhaps he felt that kind of rush again while playing the hero in Greenland. She’s sure the WSB was impressed he could do something they couldn’t. Maybe he thought having a daughter would get in the way of that. He looks at the text on his phone, and she says, that’s true, isn’t it? He looks at her, and she says, then why let anything, or anyone, tie him down?

A messenger goes over to Ava and says he has a delivery for her. She signs for it, and he gives her a fancyish envelope. She sticks it under her bag, and Portia says she guesses she’s a little surprised Ava doesn’t want to support keeping Trina away from Spencer. She figured Ava of all people would understand what a wrecking ball that family is. Ava agrees the Cassadine family can be bad news, and understands Portia’s concern, and Portia says, but Ava won’t help her make Trina see the light of day. Ava says she sees a different side of Spencer. He’s changing; he’s maturing. He took a principled stand when it came to his baby brother. She understands why Trina feels the way she does, and that’s why she can’t help Portia. If she has any advice at all, it would be for Portia to leave it alone and let Trina make her own decisions about her life.

Trina tells Spencer that Curtis will always be in her life, no matter what the test results show, and he says he wishes he could say the same about Esme. Trina tells him that she has to say, after Dr. Gatlin-Holt checked out Ace, and gave him the thumbs up, watching Spencer walk out with Laura and Esme and Ace, it kind of looked like it. Spencer says, that they were a family. Trust him. They’re not. He’d give anything for Esme to let go and relinquish the responsibility of raising his brother to him. Trina says, despite everything Esme’s done to her, she can’t help but feel for her. She doesn’t remember who she used to be or how she acted, and if you think about it, Ace is all she’s got. He says, Trina Robinson, you’re a genius, and Trina thanks him, wondering what she said. He says, right now, Ace is all Esme has, and she has to open her eyes and expand her horizons, broaden her worldview. As long as she’s solely focused on Ace, she’s never going to give him up. Trina asks, how? and he says, somehow they’ll have to get Esme to come to that conclusion on her own.

Esme tells Alexis that she meant every word of what she said. She wants to stand on her own two feet. She wants to make her own choices, and decide where and how she wants to live. Alexis says, what if she can make that happen? and Esme says, Alexis can help her get her hands on her trust fund? Laura says she doesn’t think that’s what Alexis means, and Alexis says, that’s not what Alexis means. She’s not offering Esme a free ride; she’s offering Esme a chance to gain the independence she craves. Esme asks how she’d do that, and Alexis says she has an opening for a receptionist at The Invader. Esme says, a job answering the phones? and Alexis asks if Esme has a college degree or any work experience at all. Esme says, no, and Alexis says, then it seems like a very appropriate job for her to start. Unless of course (🍷) all that talk about standing on her own is just talk.

Robert tells Dante, this isn’t a fishing expedition. As DA, it’s his job to investigate any hint of criminal conspiracy. Dante says, with all due respect, as cops, they do the investigating and he does the prosecuting, and Robert says, let him give Dante a refresher course in the chain of command. He sits on top of it. Dante says, and the judge that has to sign off on his warrant? Robert says he’s going to find the damn judge right now, and leaves.

Mac tells Felicia, come on. They’ve always been honest with each other. What does she know that he doesn’t? His phone rings, and he asks Dante, what’s up? Dante says he’s calling about Mac’s brother, and Mac says, what about his brother?… Thanks for letting him know. Felicia asks, what is it? and he says, that’s what he needs to find out, and jets.

Anna says, Holly isn’t the only one who cares about Ethan. Robert regards him like the son he never had. She’s sure Robert would help in a heartbeat. Holly says she’s sure he would, but if she involved him in Ethan’s not quite legal activities, he’s a respected District Attorney. The scandal could bring him down, and she’d never do that to him. Anna says, Robert still means that much to her? and Holly says, yeah. From the moment she realized she loved Robert, she always has, and always will. Anna says, so tell him about Ethan, and let him make the decision whether to become involved or not, but Holly says, it’s not as simple as that. There are things she doesn’t want Robert to know… for his protection. And if she’s honest, for her own. It’s like what Diane Miller said… Anna says, she spoke to Diane about Robert? and Holly says, Diane asked her why she thought things would work out between her and Robert this time when they never have before. Anna says, she has a point. She also has a horse in the race. Holly says she’s keenly aware, and Anna asks if she’s going to drop out of the race and let Diane win.

Holly says she and Diane are too smart and self-reliant to stoop to pulling out each other’s hair over a man, even if that man is Robert Scorpio. The last thing she’d want to do is hurt Robert by damaging his reputation, and if she ends up having to take another path to get the money to help her son… Anna asks if there’s another path, and Holly says, there’s always another path. Although sometimes she’s taken it and lived to regret it. Anna says she remembers, and Holly asks if Anna will help her get her foot in the Bureau’s door before it’s too late. Anna says her influence over there is limited. They replaced Frisco because he refused to give the order for the airstrike over the island. She just got back from a debriefing in London, and the new director isn’t enamored of her or anyone associated with Frisco. But she still knows some people and can make some calls. She thinks she’d be careful about taking that other path if she was Holly.

Robert comes back to the squad room, saying, the judge won’t sign off on the warrant. He sees Mac, and says, let him guess. Detective Falconari called up baby brother, who makes a beeline for the station. Mac says, Detective Falconari was just doing his job. Let’s have a talk. They go into the interrogation room, and Mac says, Robert can forget about the warrant; The Savoy’s off limits. Robert says, they both know Wu is a regular customer in there, and he has reason to believe Holly’s in trouble. Mac says, and Robert is coming to the rescue, and Robert says, Mac knows what she’s like; she’s her own worst enemy. Now if he can just intervene… Mac says, if he intervenes, Robert is going to screw up all the surveillance he put in place to get the goods on Selina Wu. Robert asks why he wasn’t informed, and Mac says, he’s telling Robert now. Stay out of it.

Felicia sits with Diane, who’s trying to do paperwork, and says, Mac is really worried about his brother. Diane says she’s sorry about that, but she has to get through these notes before she goes to court. Felicia says, don’t try so hard. She knows Diane cares about Robert. Diane says, absolutely. There’s a professional respect. Felicia says, she and Robert go way back, and Holly is a good friend of hers. Diane says she’s well aware. Felicia was with Holly last night when Holly came to her table to have frank discussion about present circumstances. If she didn’t say it then, she wants to thank Felicia and Alexis for letting them have that conversation in private. Felicia says she’s not sure Diane understands the present circumstances. It’s time she did.

Ava tells Portia that Trina is going to come around. But she’s also seen the way Trina looks at Spencer. She’s heard the way Trina talks about him. She was already smitten before everything that happened in Greenland. Painting Spencer in a bad light is just going to make it more difficult for Portia to heal her relationship with Trina. Portia says she’s Trina’s mother. If she sees Trina in a situation that’s bad for her… Ava says she’s just trying to give Portia the benefit of her regret. Please don’t push Trina away. Do better than I.

Spencer tells Trina, fortunately, his grandmother has a way with Esme, so she can encourage Esme and help her begin to search for things that will fulfill her other than Ace. He stops, and says he really is self-absorbed. Here he is, going on and on about his problems while she’s waiting to take a test that could literally change her whole life. She takes his hand and says, she’s grateful for the distraction. If he has problems, she wants to hear about them. He says he wants to hear about her problems, since it looks like they’re stuck together. She says, looks like, and he says he wouldn’t have it any other way. She says, neither would she.

Curtis says, if Selina is offering to fix the DNA results, there must be something in it for her, and she asks when he became so cynical. He asks why she doesn’t just admit it. She doesn’t give a damn whether he’s Trina’s father or not. She just likes having something over him. She asks what else she needs. She already has their little game in the back room; payback for putting his father’s arrest record in his hands. Whether he likes it or not, the two of them are joined at the hip. He says, for now, but hear him clearly. Do not do him any favors by doctoring those results. He gives Selina her tab from last night, and leaves.

Esme asks if Laura put Alexis up to this. Is it her way of keeping Esme in town, by chaining Esme to a desk so she can never leave? Laura says, some people might see it as an opportunity. She did when she was asked to answer phones for ELQ when she was Esme’s age. They hear Ace crying over the monitor, and Esme goes to check on him. Laura tells Alexis, it’s a great opportunity for her. She can put down roots. She can make a home for herself and her son, with her son’s family’s assistance of course (🍷). Alexis asks, so why does Laura look so worried? and Laura says she is worried, but not about Esme. She’s actually worried about Alexis. Esme may not currently remember the terrible things she’s done, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she can’t revert back to her old behavior. Alexis says she’s very well aware of that, which is why she was worried about Esme living here with Laura. Laura says, what choice did she have? Esme holds the fate of Laura’s grandchild in her hands. Alexis says she knows that, which is why… Esme comes back, and says she’s thought about Alexis’s offer, but Alexis says, there’s no rush; take her time. Laura says, she doesn’t have to decide now, but Esme says, except she has decided. She’ll take it.

Curtis comes out of the elevator, and flags down the lab tech. He says he’s having some tests done today, and his question is, how is the lab security system? How secure are they that no one can tamper with the DNA results, and what safeguards do they have in place? Trina comes over to them, and the tech says, why all the questions? Trina asks if there’s anything wrong, and Curtis says he just wants to be sure the results are accurate. Trina says, thanks for his concern, but she hasn’t even been tested yet, and the lab tech says, it won’t be long now, and tells Curtis, and it will be accurate. She leaves, and Curtis says, sorry he stuck his nose in, but Trina says, that’s okay. He has a nice nose. He wonders if it runs in the family.

Ava says she’s not telling Portia how to parent. She’s just hoping Portia can learn from her mistakes. Portia says she appreciates hearing Ava’s perspective, but she can’t stand by and lose Trina. Ava asks what she’s going to do, but Portia says she doesn’t know.

Felicia tells Diane, Robert and Holly have thirty plus years of history, but that doesn’t mean he’s willing to upend his life to be with her now. Whatever’s going on with Diane and Robert… Diane says, there’s nothing going on with her and Robert, except a court date, which she has to keep. Felicia says, Diane is the ultimate professional, but she knows the signs. Diane cares about Robert. Diane says, and Holly Sutton is the love of his life. End of story.

Robert says he has no interest in compromising the PCPD’s surveillance of Wu, and Mac says, then stay the hell out of it, but Robert says he can’t do that. He walks out, and asks, where’s his warrant? Mac says, he can wait until hell freezes over, and Dante suggests they sit down and discuss this. Robert says, screw the warrant, and walks out.

Anna is cleaning up, when there’s a knock at the door. A messenger says he just needs a signature, and Anna signs. He gives her the same envelope Ava got, and when she goes back inside, she opens it.

Alexis tells Esme, the salary is what it is, but she gets healthcare benefits, and daycare. Esme asks if that means Ace can come to work with her. She won’t have to leave him with Spencer and Laura? Alexis nods, and Esme hugs her, saying, thank you so much.

Portia comes into the hospital, and sees Trina with Spencer and Curtis. Trina says, they’re just waiting to get their DNA tests, and Curtis tells Trina, remember, whatever happens, she’s not alone. Spencer says he’ll make sure of that, and Portia says, then they’re all in agreement. Trina comes first. Always.

Ava gets up, and remembers the envelope under her bag. She opens it, and reads what’s inside.

Esme says she can’t wait to tell Ace that mommy got her first job, and thanks Alexis. This is the first step on their road to independence. She goes in the back, and Alexis says, looks like she’s got herself a receptionist. She asks, what’s that? looking at the envelope in Laura’s hand, and Laura says she doesn’t know. It was just delivered by messenger. Alexis says, that’s old school, when Laura’s phone rings. It’s Anna, who asks if Laura just got an envelope delivered to her by messenger. Laura says, just this very moment. How did she know? Anna says, because she got one too. It’s an invitation to the reading of Victor’s will.

Felicia says, Robert and Holly are her friends. She just wants them to be happy. Diane says, then there’s nothing left to say, is there? Felicia says, just this. Seeing Robert with Diane, and knowing his very complicated history with Holly, she’s not so sure where their happiness lies.

Robert walks into The Savoy, and Selina says, if he’s looking for Curtis, he just left. Robert says, actually, he’s looking for her, and she asks what she can do for him. He asks, what’s the hold she has over Holly Sutton? and she says she suggests he ask the lady herself. Holly walks in, and Selina leaves.

Tomorrow, Curtis wonders if he made a mistake going through with the DNA test; Esme asks if Alexis doesn’t have some ulterior motive for giving her this job; and Holly asks what exactly Robert thinks she’s up to.

Vanderpump Rules

In the future words of Schwartz, this is very bad.

NYC – March 1, 2023 – Watch What Happens Live. Scheana and Raquel are guests and Andy asks, who is hotter; Schwartz or Sandoval? They both say, Sandoval. A producer asks if Sandoval is ready to talk, and he says, no. Scheana was doing WWHL, and his band was performing at TomTom in LA; their single was being released. His phone fell out of his pocket, and a woman gave it to Ariana for safekeeping. In Ariana’s interview, she says, call it women’s intuition or a lightbulb, but she felt like she needed to look at it. She found a screen recording of them on a FaceTime, and her stomach dropped into her ass. In Sandoval’s interview, he says, normally, he would have deleted it, but it had been a busy day. He got himself and Ariana outside… Ariana says she called Raquel and said, if Raquel ever gave a sh*t about her, tell her when it happened. In Scheana’s interview, she says, Raquel told her that she and Sandoval were having an affair for the past seven months. Sandoval says, what he did was f***ed up; there’s no excuse. He loves and cares about Ariana, but doesn’t think they’re happy. Ariana says she learned there were evil people in the world, and sometimes they’re the people closest to you and you have no idea. We see the gossip headlines.

Ariana meets with her friend Meredith, and says she’s gone from hating Sandoval to feeling indifferent. She drinks from a bottle of wine that she and Sandoval got on their first trip together, and Sandoval drifts through the apartment like a ghost, sighing. He asks if Ariana wants anything, and she says, for him to die. I second that. She says he hasn’t said he’s sorry for what he actually did, and he says, every time he tries to apologize, it makes her more angry. She says, then let her be angry, and he says he didn’t want to hurt her. She says, yet he continued to do it over and over. She’s been with him nine years. She loved him when he was wearing combat boots and skinny jeans, had no money, and was driving a 1997 Honda Civic. Now he has money, a bar, and a band, and a girl acts enamored of him, so he can’t help himself. That’s what he wants; someone to gas him up. Raquel is searching for her identity in men, and is willing to stoop so low to f*** one of her best friend’s life partners. Does he think she’s a good person? Sandoval says, it just happened. He and Raquel became really good friends, and he was seeking what he wasn’t getting. He knows it was selfish. Ariana says, that’s the nicest word it is, and Sandoval says, he and Raquel became friends first… Ariana says she doesn’t give a f*** about Raquel and their friendship; it’s bullsh*t. Sandoval whines that it’s not; it’s real. They trust and respect each other. Ariana hasn’t respected him in a long time. Ariana says, so she’s the scapegoat, and Sandoval says, he’s trying to get her to understand. It’s not about f***ing; it’s about a connection. They were giving each other confidence. His and Ariana’s relationship wasn’t the same. They were separated all the time and had no sex life. He lost his mojo. Ariana says, so he f***ed her friend to get his mojo back, and Sandoval says, when he turned forty, he thought, this can’t be the rest of his life. She says, that’s normal, and why you go to couples therapy to figure out if you should stay together or break up. Sandoval says, she pressured him to stay in the relationship. He wanted to end things. She says, if that’s true, he shouldn’t have been in her bed. He’s a coward. He says, it’s not about stroking his ego or looks. It came from something much deeper. They became each other’s support system. Ariana says, don’t talk to her about deep connections. It’s disgusting. He says he’s seeing Raquel tomorrow, and she asks, why not just say no? She was ride or die for him, and had Raquel’s back while Raquel was smiling in her face. It’s God awful and disgusting. She regrets every moment she stood up for him, defended him, and supported him. She wants him to feel that in his soul. She stood by him, and loved him, and was ready to build the rest of her life with him. She wants him to know how she feels. She regrets ever loving him. She asks if he has any last words before they  never speak again, and he says he never thought this would happen. He thought they’d be together forever. Ariana says she would have followed him anywhere and changed whatever he was unhappy with. She was 100% committed to him. He cries and asks, what the hell is wrong with him? She can think what she wants, but they had some good times. He goes upstairs. I’m alternately sad and furious throughout this whole exchange, and if Sandoval was in front of me, I’d slap his emo tears off his stupid face.

Sandoval goes to Schwartz’s place, and Schwartz says Sandoval is the most reviled man in America. This is very bad. Sandoval cries and they hug. Schwartz says, he’s not going to beat Sandoval while he’s down, and Sandoval says he’s sorry. Schwartz says, Sandoval had a game plan; he just didn’t put it in motion. Schwartz & Sandy’s went from 4.1 stars to 1 star. In Schwarz’s interview, he says he’s exhausted in his soul. He put everything he had in there, and to think it could fall apart because of Sandoval’s affair is soul crushing. He tells Sandoval to do a post, explaining that he’s not complicit. He told Sandoval to tell Ariana. Sandoval says he wanted to, but got the vibe Ariana didn’t want to know. I hope I make it through this show, since this a-hole gets more ridiculous by the second. Schwartz says his world has been turned upside down, and Sandoval says, he and Raquel had a deep connection after guys night. Nothing happened that night, but the next day, they went to The Abbey, took shots, and kissed. He felt something he hasn’t felt in a very long time. Is he reading from the Little Book of Clichés? In Sandoval’s interview, he says, he and Ariana started to grow apart. They’ve had issues for about five years. We flash back to Jax saying he thinks their relationship is a façade, and Sandoval tells Schwartz that he’s in a relationship where there’s been nearly zero intimacy. He went to therapy. He loves Ariana. He’s been with her a long time, but they’re not there. Schwartz says, it’s relatable, but Sandoval had the multiple opportunities to tell Ariana. He told Sandoval last week to tell Ariana before it came out and humiliated them both. Sandoval says, he and Raquel had to be on the same page. Ariana didn’t ask questions. All she had to do was follow him. I have no words, and Schwartz tells him not to put that responsibility on her. He’s upset with Sandoval. Just being his friend and business partner is getting Schwartz canceled.

A few friends are with Ariana at her apartment, and she says, Lisa offered her a place to stay. Scheana comes in, hugs Ariana, and cries. She says, Ariana doesn’t deserve any of this, and I find myself tearing up. Scheana asks, who are they? and Ariana says, they are evil, insidious people. Scheana says, it’s not like it was an oops. It was a full-blown affair. Katie arrives, and hugs Ariana. Scheana says they’ve agreed to put their sh*t aside, and in Katie’s interview, she says, it’s the first time she’s seen Scheana since they were in the hotel lobby at Scheana’s wedding… her vacation. But what Ariana is going through is bigger. Ariana tells them about going to TomTom and finding the screen recording of Raquel and Sandoval on FaceTime from the night before. They were at Schwartz’s. Katie is like, what? and Ariana says, she called Raquel and made Raquel tell her when it started. Raquel said, right after the girls trip – right after Charlotte died. She said they kissed, but Sandoval eventually told her that they’d f***ed in the car that night, and Ariana had to let him in because he didn’t have his key. I didn’t think I could hate him more, but I manage to, and Ariana says, her emotions were all over the place, and Sandoval got angry at her. Scheana says she had so much rage. She was so angry, she shoved Raquel away, telling Raquel to get the f*** away from her. Her nail might have scratched Raquel, and Raquel called Schwartz, saying Scheana punched her. In Scheana’s interview, she says, it’s scientifically impossible for her to form a fist. Her nails would break. Katie says, Schwartz hinted at something when they were at Bravocon, and in her interview, she says, Raquel was wearing a TomTom hoodie with nothing on under it, and she thought it was about Raquel and Schwartz. Katie was poking at Schwartz, saying Raquel was following him like a puppy, and he said that wasn’t what it was about. Raquel wasn’t there for him. It turns out she is a fangirl – of the other Tom. Katie says, Schwartz knew, and she wants to draw blood. Logan breaks the penis flute over his knee.

James tells Ally that he’s a nervous wreck. How could people he’s so close with do this? He’s not mad at Raquel so much as he’s mad at Sandoval. In James’s interview, he says, Sandoval is the definition of a backstabber. In a sense, he looked up to Sandoval. We flash back to Sandoval saying he’d never betray James or Raquel. James cries, and says, it’s just a waste of his friendship on such a POS. Lala and Katie come over, and Lala says, there was a point in time when she thought they were looking at the wrong Tom, and we flash back to Lala saying, he did it to Kristen with Ariana. Now he wants the sloppy drunk who’s fun. She thinks Sandoval got off on sneaking around. She doesn’t think it was the first time. It has comfortability. In Lala’s interview, she says she thinks he’s been hooking up with a lot of people. A few years ago, there was a rumor about Sandoval and Billie Lee. She thinks they should open that cold case back up. James decides to call Raquel, and asks how she feels. Raquel says, sh*tty, and James asks if she and Sandoval are an item, but she says, no. He asks, how about losing every single person she thought liked her in Los Angeles? and Raquel says, it’s definitely eye opening. He says, she lied to everyone’s face. She trashed the friendships she was building for Sandoval’s stinky 40 year old c*ck. Raquel says, James is the last person she needs to explain herself to, and Ally starts to gesture for him to hang up. In his interview, James says he’s striking back. It’s all he’s wanted and needed. Sorry not sorry.

Sandoval goes to Raquel’s place, and she says, it’s been rough. He toasts to being in hell where they belong, but she says, they’re just two people who were friends and had feelings for one another. He says, it came out of left field while he was trying to hook her up with Schwartz. After Sandoval makes a Freudian slip and calls her Ariana, Raquel says she had to tell her family. He says, her mom hates him, and she says, a little bit. She asks about his family, and he says, they love her. Raquel reminds him that they said they wouldn’t do this if they didn’t think it was worth it, and he says, it’s not ideal. They agree not to kiss in front of the cameras, and in Raquel’s interview, a producer asks why she thinks it happened. She says she was curious to know what it would be like to be physical with someone she loved. So… she didn’t love James? She knew she loved Sandoval as a friend, and never had sex like that. She should have removed herself from the situation, but didn’t have the willpower. He looks at her eye, and says, Scheana said, I punched that bitch. Raquel says she took it like a champ. She thought, is this her karma? She feels isolated, and only has him, her parents, and her sister who have her best interests at heart, and even he’s questionable. She put her life on the line for someone who would cheat on someone they love so much. She doesn’t want to be blind about it, and he says he’d never do this if there wasn’t something there. In Sandoval’s interview, he says he can’t predict the future. Maybe they’ll work out; maybe they won’t. But he felt hope and like his best days weren’t behind him. Maybe it’s just the beginning. Raquel says, they f***ed up, but it’s a learning experience. The text says, after filming this scene, Raquel turned off her phone and wasn’t seen for weeks.

Puffy! Ariana goes to Lisa’s house and cries. Lisa hugs her and says she’s sorry, but I fully believe Puffy and the ponies will make it okay. Ariana says she’s trying to lean into her anger. It keeps her from dry heaving. Lisa says, it’s no consolation, but none of them suspected anything. She asks if Schwartz knew, and Ariana says, it took him until this morning to reach out. He said he didn’t want to kick a friend when he’s down, and Lisa says, he deserves kicking, but apparently, Raquel disappeared off the face of the earth. Ariana says, Raquel should move and change her name back to Rachel. She’s not welcome in this town. In Lisa’s interview, she says, she didn’t think Raquel was capable of secretive sneaking around, and Ariana tells Lisa that Raquel ingratiated herself into her life and pretended to be her friend. In her interview, Lisa says she knows Ariana and Sandoval’s physical connection wasn’t what it should be, and along comes the beauty queen. It was too much to resist. Ariana says she hates him so much, and Lisa says, it’s normal. It will take a long time, but she’ll get through it, and there will be something beautiful for her.

Schwartz brings the dogs to Katie’s fresh from the salon, and Katie asks if he can sit and talk. He asks how Ariana is. He sent her a text; he feels bad. She asks how long he’s known, and he says, about a month, but she doesn’t believe it. In Katie’s interview, she says, the Toms have always had each other’s backs. They cover and lie for each other, like they did with Jax. We flash back to that, and she says, they’re each other’s true disgusting lovers. Katie reminds Schwartz about his comment at Bravocon, and Schwartz insists he didn’t say that, but he did tell Sandoval what he needed to do. Katie says she knows them well enough to know Sandoval’s ego wouldn’t take Schwartz pursuing a girl he liked without it not being a set-up. Why not shock everyone and tell the truth for once? Schwartz says he knew about a one night stand after guys night. Sandoval said he tried to communicate with Ariana, and tried to break up, but sometimes he’d change his mind and say he still loves her. Katie asks why Schwartz didn’t encourage him to do something, and Schwartz says he didn’t do anything wrong, and now he’s worried about the bar. Katie says, f*** the bar. He’s been Sandoval’s bitch boy, and now he’s going to lose friends. Schwartz says he’s just a dude trying to get by, and Katie says, he sounds like a country song.

Ariana receives a sh*t ton of flowers. Kristen comes over, and they laugh about our ex-boyfriend. We flash back to Kristen telling Ariana that she wins, and in her interview, saying, Ariana wins sharing a bed with the best liar she’s known. Ariana says, a lawyer from Sandoval’s camp said their relationship was one of companionship and convenience, not love and romance. Kristen says, he’s comparing it to the joke of relationship he had with her. That was convenient. Ariana wonders who this person is. It took her nine years to figure it out. Years she could have spent not defending him for Kristen’s sake. Kristen says, forget her. Ariana did her a favor. They go outside, and Ariana writes down what doesn’t serve her well, and lights it on fire. Kristen says, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Life is beautiful, so slay we must.

Sandoval goes to Villa Rosa, which he doesn’t deserve, and we see Puffy! which he doesn’t deserve. He thanks Lisa for seeing him, and she says she doesn’t feel like it’s a hug worthy moment. It’s raining, and she says, the weather has also set the tone. She says she’s heard so much and she doesn’t understand. He says he didn’t want to hurt Ariana, especially since she has a hard time trusting. Lisa asks what he thinks she’s going to have now, after he slept with one of her best friends. He says he had every intention of telling her before the Reunion, and we flash back to Ariana defending them. Lisa says, they look terrible in retrospect, and Sandoval says he’d love to have a conversation with Ariana when she’s not angry. In his interview, he says he’s conflicted about being honest, since the details might hurt Ariana more, and he tells Lisa that he doesn’t know if he’ll get the chance. He cries, and she tells him to take a moment. He says, they’ve always protected each other, and for that to be their last conversation is hard for him to handle. He hyperventilates and sobs, and the mother in Lisa has to tell him to stop; it will get better. She knows it’s been too much. In Lisa’s interview, she says she’d never do anything but condemn what Sandoval did, but she can’t turn her back on him. At some point, maybe the pain will ease. Sandoval says he wants Ariana to be happy and get the love she deserves, and Lisa says, from someone else. Sandoval says, she deserves more, and Lisa says he’s not a bad person, but he did a bad thing. She wants to make sure he knows that.

Charli, Katie, Lala, Scheana, her sister Cortney, and Ariana meet for drinks. Everyone except Ariana is in black, and Charli says, the death of Tom. Lala says, stupid question, how is Ariana doing? and Scheana says, they’re here to support her. She could never imagine what happened today. In Scheana’s interview, she says she got a call from her publicist who told her that Raquel filed a temporary restraining order. She couldn’t believe the person she took under her wing is now taking things to a legal level with her. Scheana says she’s been a mom and sister to Raquel, and Katie says, Scheana gave Raquel a place to live. Scheana says, that she paid for, and Ariana says she can’t wait to be lightyears away from this. Katie says she asked Schwartz about it, and he told her that Sandoval said it was one time and he believed him.  Ariana says she came to the bar opening, and he acted like her friend. Katie says, Schwartz may come by, and in Katie’s interview, she says, Ariana and Schwartz have a long-standing friendship. He even asked her to be a groomsmen at their wedding. He owes her more than a stupid apology text. Schwartz arrives, and Ariana says, no one wants to talk to him, but they can speak privately. In Schwartz’s interview, he says he feels bad. Ariana and Sandoval had an unspoken pact to never humiliate other person on the show and in life. He thinks too much karma built up, and it’s vengeance on Sandoval.

Ariana tells Schwartz that if she hears about Sandoval feeling down or that Schwartz is feeling bad for him, she’s walking away. Schwartz says he’s not here to advocate for Sandoval. He’s pissed at Sandoval, who exploited his kindness. Also their business, that they poured their heart soul into is suffering. Ariana says, Sandoval apologized to the business before he apologized to her publicly, and Schwartz says, Sandoval f***ed up. Everyone is freaking out because they’re being boycotted. Ariana says, why would anyone give money to Sandoval? and Schwartz says, they’ve built a family. She says, Sandoval f***ed up their family because he didn’t give a f***. What did he think was going to happen? He was going to cheat on her and be able to walk away unscathed? Schwartz says he wanted to look her in the eyes and say he’s sorry. He’s being painted as a co-conspirator, and it’s devastating. Ariana says she doesn’t think he’s that person, but she won’t have mutual friends with Sandoval, so they’re not friends anymore. Schwartz says, Sandoval assured him that he was going to do the right thing, and Ariana says, she was ride or die; she defended him. She froze her eggs because, if Sandoval wanted a baby, she wanted him to have it down the road. She cries, and says she wishes she didn’t miss him, but what she misses isn’t real.

Scheana tells Brock knowing what know now they were being blatant and obvious. Sandoval finally texted her, and asked her to hear him out. In Scheana’s interview, she says, she and Sandoval have been friends for 14 years. They opened Villa Blanca together in 2009. She never saw this as being the outcome. She tells Brock that Lala and Katie were saying something was weird, and she told them that they were weird. When the restaurant opened, and no one wanted to take photos with her, he brought her in and said she was with them. Sandoval comes over, and Brock says he’s taking Summer to the park. Sandoval put them in a tough one. I covet Scheana’s giant hoop earrings, and there’s silence. Sandoval says he’s sorry to Ariana obviously, but also to her. He feels bad about the things he said that night. In Scheana’s interview, she says, Sandoval called her after WWHL, and said their friendship was nothing. He said he wasn’t one of her best friends, and she was no one to him. Sandoval says, when he turned 40, he had a spiritual awakening. He was going to break up with Ariana. Scheana says, but he didn’t. He f***ed her best friend instead. She’s known him for 14 years, and realizes she doesn’t know this person. The person she knows wouldn’t do this. The person she questioned in Miami…We flash back to Miami Girl, and Sandoval says, Ariana always knew the truth. Scheana asks if he cheated other than with Miami Girl, and he says, one other time. She says, he’s disgusting, and asks if it was someone random. He says, yeah… no. It’s not fair, so he’s not going into it. Things with Ariana haven’t been good for a long time; at least five years. Scheana asks why he bought the house with her then, and he says he felt it brought them closer together. It was a band-aid. He didn’t know how to end the relationship. Scheana suggests being an adult and having an adult, and having a conversation. He says he tried, and Ariana threatened to kill herself, which I don’t believe for a second. Scheana says, then he should have had her friends ready to rally around her like they’re doing now. Say he’s leaving because he’s not happy, and let them pick up the pieces he left. Don’t f*** her friend. In Sandoval’s interview, he says, from an outside point of view, it’s easy to say he should break up, but emotionally, it was like climbing Mount Everest. He loves Ariana. He cares for her and wants to look out for her. Scheana says she and Sandoval are obviously no longer friends, but she’s going to miss him. She cries and says, right now he don’t deserve any friends she can’t get behind any of this… She doesn’t know what else to say, and he says he’s sorry. She leaves the room, and he leaves the apartment.

Next time – the three-part Season 10 Reunion begins – it’s the height of awful; physical fights have to be broken up; and James calls Sandoval, a worm with a mustache.

🍸 And So It Went…

Take a break tomorrow for soap and tea. Until then, stay safe, stay saying thank you and I’m sorry when the situation calls for it, and stay being an adult and having adult conversations rather than being the definition of backstabber.

February 1, 2023 – Willow Goes To Heaven, Moonlighting, One Season Wife, New Judge, No Consent, Dead Reviews Last, Adoption Help & Good

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny and Nina wait for news on Willow. Nina wonders why she’s still in the OR, but Sonny says, the good news is, Willow’s having a healthy baby girl; their shared grandchild. (Weird how that worked out.) Curtis comes by, and he and Nina hug. He says, Drew just told him about Nina and Willow, and Nina says, Curtis, more than anyone, knows the disappointments she’s had searching for her daughter. Now her new daughter has a new daughter, and this miracle is a long time coming. He says he’s thrilled for her, and they hug again.

Stella tells Jordan that she’s not just Curtis’s aunt; she’s the officiant at his wedding to Portia. How can she stand before the Almighty, and ask Him to bless a marriage, when she knows the bride is lying to the groom? How can she be solid when she knows Portia hasn’t told Curtis that Trina might be his daughter? Portia walks in.

Spencer tells Trina that Ava was right; this changes everything. His father actually confessed on record that he thought he killed Esme. Trina says, there had to be a reason he confessed, but Spencer asks if it matters. He plays the confession again.

Esme says, her boyfriend’s father is also her baby’s father, and Nikolas says, it’s a complicated situation. He’ll answer her questions as best he can, but she has to know that she can trust him.

Elizabeth says, there’s nothing Carolyn can do for her, but Carolyn is right that she’s exhausted, and she’s too tired to listen. Carolyn says, Elizabeth won’t have to worry about seeing her again, since she’s flying back to California and out of Elizabeth’s life for as long as Elizabeth likes. Elizabeth asks if she wasn’t consulting on a case, but Carolyn says, now that she’s met the patient, she’s decided she wants nothing to do with the case, or the person who requested her help. And neither should Elizabeth.

Michael tells Josslyn, despite everything, his daughter is healthy and happy, when Carly runs in, asking, where’s her favorite new person on the planet? They all look at the new baby through the window.

Austin runs into the ER, asking, what’s going on? and Dr. Navarro says, Willow’s still hemorrhaging. Willow drifts out of herself, and sees Harmony in the clouds. Harmony holds out her arms, and tells Willow not to worry; mama is here.

Nina tells Curtis that Willow is still in the OR, and he says, Drew told him how Willow risked everything to have the baby. She has one brave daughter. Nina says, sometimes it takes more than bravery; look at Britt. He says, part of the reason he’s here is to support Nina at Britt’s memorial, and she says, he knows what a long, strange journey it’s been for her. He says he still regrets letting Valentin play them about Sasha, but she says, that’s water under the bridge. Sasha’s not her daughter, but she still considers Sasha family. Sonny says, almost a daughter. Curtis is going to know what that’s like one day. Curtis says, from his lips, but first there’s a wedding, and he’s counting on them to be in attendance.

Jordan says she knows Portia and Stella are picking up Stella’s dress, and hopes all goes well. She tells them that she should get going to Britt’s memorial, and Portia says to give Britt’s friends and family her condolences. She would have been there, but things with the wedding got backed up. Portia and Stella leave.

Spencer says, his father actually tried to kill Esme, and Trina says, so Spencer is going to use the confession to force his father to drop any claim to Esme’s baby, and let Spencer have custody. Spencer says, absolutely, and she says, what if he refuses? but Spencer says, how can he? This confession is evidence of a crime. Not only did his father seduce his ex-girlfriend, he tried to murder her. This isn’t just an accusation, but his father’s own incriminating words. He’s not the one who threw Esme off the parapet; his father did. She says, they both know Esme is a monster, and the way his father described it, it wasn’t premeditated, but a fit of rage. He says, that makes it okay? and she says, of course (🍷) not, but if he goes down that path, he’ll be deliberately destroying his father’s life; using his own words to take his child away. He asks what she’s suggesting; that he does nothing, and lets his father get away with it?

Esme says, Nikolas paid for her defense, and brought in a psychiatrist to consult on her case, who within ten minutes, just takes off. Now he informs her that she made this baby with him, her boyfriend’s father, and she’s supposed to trust him? He says, before her memory loss, she trusted him, and said there was a connection between them that they couldn’t deny. They were both in extremely vulnerable situations; Spencer had just broken up with her, and he thought his marriage was over. What they did was wrong, but they couldn’t resist. She says, if he’s the father, why would Spencer say he is?

Michael says his baby is gorgeous, and Carly says, of course (🍷) she is; it runs in the family. He says he can’t wait for Willow to see her. He wonders why he hasn’t heard from the OR, but Carly says, he’ll hear soon. Josslyn asks if he has a name for the baby, but he says, they hadn’t settled on one yet. Wiley suggested Ashoka, and he and Willow called the baby Walnut because of how she looked on the first sonogram. Josslyn says, Ashoka Walnut Corinthos is an option, but Carly is sure Michael and Willow have some alternatives in mind. Bobbie comes out, and asks Michael to come with her to meet his daughter.

Willow says, Harmony isn’t her mother, and Harmony – who’s dressed in black, which I find a weird color choice for heaven – says, in life no, but it wasn’t all a lie. No one loved Willow more than she did. Willow says, she knows what love is and isn’t, and Harmony asks if she thinks Nina loves her. Nina loves only Nina, but Harmony was there for her. When they moved from one temporary home to another, and it seemed impossible to make new friends. When Willow got lost, who found her? Who did their best to dry her tears? She calls Willow Kali, but Willow tells Harmony that her name is Willow. We see the staff in the OR working on her, and Harmony says, Willow is still her Kali.

Curtis says he’ll see Nina at the memorial, and she thanks him for his good wishes. He says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Nina thinks there should have been an update by now, but Sonny says, when Willow is in recovery, they’ll be told.

Trina says she’s not defending Nikolas, or suggesting he get away with attempted murder, but before Spencer uses the confession, ask himself why Nikolas confessed in the first place. His father’s not a fool; he must have had a reason. She loves Ava, but Ava wants Nikolas to pay for breaking her heart. This confession might not even be true. It might be another game between the two of them, and if Spencer uses this confession as leverage, he could get caught in the middle. He says, if it saves his little brother or sister, he doesn’t mind, and she says, he might not mind, but she does.

Elizabeth says, Nikolas brought Carolyn to town? and Carolyn says, he told her it was on Elizabeth’s behalf. He said she was in trouble. Elizabeth asks why Carolyn didn’t say anything when they ran into each other, and Carolyn says, Nikolas told her it was imperative Elizabeth not know. From her perspective, she was flying blind, and wanted all the facts before she went to Elizabeth. Once she’d spent time with him, it became clear that any trouble Elizabeth was in, started with Nikolas. Elizabeth asks what Nikolas told her, and Carolyn says, enough to sense that what Nikolas roped Elizabeth into doing was wrong, maybe even illegal. He said Carolyn could atone for any harm she’d done to Elizabeth in the past. He said she could use those same skills to keep someone else from remembering something that would end up hurting Elizabeth and her boys. Elizabeth says, and that someone is Esme Prince, right? and Carolyn says, yes.

Bobbie brings out the baby for Michael to hold, and Carly and Josslyn watch. They remark how little she is, but she really isn’t, so it’s weird. Michael tells the baby he’d give her anything. There’s so many people who want to meet her, starting with her mommy.

Sonny calls Carly, who tells him that they’re in the NICU visiting with the new baby. He asks if Michael is with her, and she says, he’s holding the baby; why? Sonny says, the doctors in the OR are looking for Michael, and she asks, what happened?

Willow says that she’s Willow, Michael’s fiancé, the mother of his children, but Harmony says, where they’re going, names don’t matter. There’s nothing to tie you to the past. Don’t be afraid. Come with her. Harmony holds out her hand, and I yell, go into the light, Carol Anne Willow!

On the phone, Jordan says she thinks she should attend Britt’s memorial herself. She wants Britt’s family to understand that Britt’s sacrifice won’t be in vain. Curtis says he couldn’t help but overhear. It takes a lot of courage to face Britt’s family on a day like today. She says, they deserve answers. She just wishes she had better ones to give them. He says, Obrecht has a temper, and he’d hate to see her take incoming fire, but she says, it goes with the badge. If she’d lost a child, she’d feel the same way. Curtis says, so would he.

A woman leads Stella and Portia to the dress viewing area (I have no idea what it’s called), and Portia says she’s a grown woman with a daughter in college, and her butterflies have butterflies. She suggests they start with Stella’s dress, and the woman leaves to get it. Stella wonders if there’s a reason Portia is so nervous, and Portia says, the last time she got married, she was in her 20s. She asks how many weddings Stella has been a part of, and Stella says, enough to know they’re not all the same. They all start off beautifully, with the dress, the cake, the music of course (🍷)… Portia says, it seems like something is on Stella’s mind, but she’s not saying it, which is unlike her. She seemed cheerful and supportive of the wedding until now. Has something changed?

Trina tells Spencer that she cares about that baby too. That poor thing never asked to be born, let alone have Esme and his dad as parents. He says, then she understands why he can’t just turn the other way, and why he needs to fight using any weapon he can find. His father can’t afford for this information to become public, and a judge or the police will want answers. That’s why his father is going to bow out and give him custody. She says, if that’s really his endgame, why leverage his dad? Why not go straight to the cops?

Esme asks why it isn’t possible that Spencer is the father of her baby, and Nikolas says, timing-wise makes it impossible. Esme says, Spencer disagrees, but Nikolas says, because she has no way to know he was lying. His son has a good heart, but sometimes he ends up hurting the people he wants to help. He’ll deal with his son, but right now they need to focus on the baby. Esme has other challenges she’s facing, like her precarious legal situation. The reason he brought Carolyn to see her is because he wanted to take one of those burdens off her hands. He takes out a document, and says, all she has to do is sign it, and he’ll make sure her baby is waiting, until she’s free once more.

Carly thinks she should be with Michael, but Bobbie says, Willow is getting the best care. Josslyn says, Michael can’t lose her, and they have a three-way hug.

Michael asks Sonny, what’s going on? and Sonny says, Willow’s in the OR; they’re waiting for an update. All he knows is, Willow’s a fighter, and that kind of runs in the family.

Willow’s blood pressure continues to drop, and she asks where Harmony is taking her. Harmony says, to a better place; the kind of place they’ve been searching for. A place of peace and tranquility. A place of love. Take her hand. Willow says, what about her family? but Harmony says she’s Willow’s family. Trust her. Willow takes her hand, and Harmony says, that’s my girl.

Jordan says she ran into Curtis’s Aunt Stella. She and Portia are on their way to the bridal boutique. He says, everyone’s excited. Between Aunt Stella and his father, you’d think they were going to be at the top of the cake. He apologizes, and says he didn’t mean to sound insensitive, but Jordan says she wants him to be happy. That’s why… nothing. She starts to walk away, but he says he knows her. If it’s not about the wedding, what’s wrong?

Stella says she’s going to stand before God, and Portia’s family and friends, but Portia says, our family. She used to think all she needed was her medical degree and Trina, but then Curtis came back into he life. They went from separate homes to this beautiful home of their own that they share with Trina, and were able to welcome Curtis’s dad, Stella, TJ, and Molly. She feels the more they give, the more they have. The more love, more joy, more everything. That’s why she feels this wedding isn’t just about the two of them; it’s about all of them. She gives Stella a jewelry box, and says, it’s for her. Stella opens it to find  a beautiful bracelet, and Portia says, it’s been in her family for generations. She wants Stella to wear it to the wedding, but Stella says she can’t accept this, and Portia asks, why not?

Elizabeth says, Carolyn visited Esme at Spring Ridge? and Carolyn says, Nikolas insisted. The moment she saw Esme was pregnant, and realized he wanted to silence Esme for some selfish reason, she couldn’t go along with it. She refuses to ruin someone else’s life. She knows Nikolas has been in Elizabeth’s life since high school, and been around for important events that she and Elizabeth’s dad missed out on, but trust her, Nikolas is not her friend. She doesn’t believe he has Elizabeth’s best interests at heart. She wishes she’d realized it sooner, and been straight with Elizabeth the moment she got to town. She wishes so many things. All she can say in her defense is, she’s still learning. She hopes one day she earns Elizabeth’s forgiveness. Elizabeth thanks Carolyn for telling her, and Carolyn says, you’re very welcome, Elizabeth. Elizabeth thanks Carolyn for calling her Elizabeth instead of Lizzie, and Carolyn tells her, like she said, she’s still learning.

Carly wants to be with Michael, but Bobbie says, Sonny is up there, and Josslyn points out that Nina will be there too. What’s worse, Michael facing them on his own, or them going up there, and a fight breaking out? He told them to stay with the baby. Bobbie gives them scrubs, and tells them to put smiles on their faces. They’re going in to see the baby.

Sonny tells Nina to have faith. He doesn’t think God would bring her daughter into her life to take her away. Nina says, please don’t let Willow die. Please. She has two children that need their mom. Please let Willow live.

Harmony tells Willow, just one more step, and she’ll find perfect peace.

Curtis says he knows he and Jordan are past losing the divorce papers, so what is it? She says she meant what she said. She genuinely hopes there’s a happy ending for him and Portia, and Trina. She leaves, but I don’t think Curtis is convinced she’s telling him everything.

Stella says, Portia should save the family heirloom and give it to Trina for her own wedding, but Portia says, Stella can pay it forward and give it to Trina then. Please say she’ll wear it to the wedding. Stella says, the last thing she wants to do is spoil Portia’s happiness. Portia’s right. When she marries Curtis, she marries his family, flaws and all. Portia says, Stella is flawless, but Stella says, hardly. Think of what she kept from Curtis all those years; letting him and his brother think their father was dead. Portia says, Stella thought she was doing right by her sister, and asks if she’d make the same choice if she had it to do over again. Stella says she honestly doesn’t know, and no one can make that decision for you. The woman brings Stella’s dress in, and says, showtime.

Spencer and Trina go into the chapel, and he says, if he brings the video directly to the police, it becomes a legal matter. If he takes it directly to his father, then his father backs off, it stays between them, and he becomes responsible for Esme’s baby. She says, it sounds like he has it all figured out, even though they know he’s doing this for another reason. By keeping this from the police, he’s not completely shutting the door on his dad. Part of Spencer still loves him, and knows if he uses that confession, he’ll lose his father forever.

Nikolas gives Esme the papers along with a pen, and she asks if she shouldn’t have a lawyer look at it. He says, this is a mere formality, and she says she appreciates him looking out for her and her baby, but this is all overwhelming. She’s gone from thinking Spencer is the father of her baby to finding out it’s really him, and it’s a lot to process. He says, of course (🍷). He’ll leave the paper with her and come back tomorrow. She needs to be at her best so she can clear her name and come back to her… their baby. He leaves, and Esme wonders if she can really trust him.

Josslyn, Carly, and Bobbie visit with the baby, and Bobbie says, she thinks Willow’s name is perfect. Willow trees are strong. A big, strong wind can knock down a giant oak tree, but willows can weather any storm.

Michael says, if Willow can hear him right now, she has to know how much they need her. Not just him; Wiley and their new daughter. They’re waiting for her. Waiting to take her home.

Willow hears Michael say, home. We’re waiting for you. Come back to us. Harmony says, they’re almost there, but Willow turns around.

Austin comes out, and Michael asks if Willow is okay.

Trina says, Spencer has suffered some horrible losses, but he’s also lived a pretty privileged life. Remember that. Jordan walks in, but says she can wait in the hall if they want privacy. Trina says, that’s okay. She’ll give them some time alone. She thinks Spencer and Jordan have something to discuss. Nice blindside, Trina. WTH? She leaves, and Jordan says, they do?

Stella comes out, and the dress is gorgeous, but I wonder why it’s black. I get that she’s the officiant, but maybe a dark blue would have been a better choice. Portia gets all excited, and says, now all Stella needs is some sparkle – even though the dress has white lace with rhinestone accents – and puts the bracelet on her, saying, bling it up. She says, now she knows everything is going to be perfect for her wedding day, and they look in the mirror.

Curtis sees Trina outside the chapel, and asks if everything is okay.

Jordan asks what Spencer wants to talk to her about. He holds his phone with the video on it behind his back.

Elizabeth sees Nikolas come out of the elevator, and doubles back. She looks at him like she might possibly kill him.

Esme looks at the papers, playing with the pen, and wondering why she doesn’t want to sign it. Like she said before, she lost her memory, but she’s not stupid.

Austin says, it was touch and go for a while, but Willow came through just great. Nina says she can’t believe how close they came to losing her daughter, and Michael asks if he can see her. Austin says, absolutely, she’s in ICU, Michael hugs Austin, and Michael leaves. Sonny thanks Austin, and Nina thanks him for saving Willow’s life, but Austin says he can’t take credit for something Willow’s done. Clearly, she doesn’t want to leave them just yet.

Carly says, look at them. They’re so lucky. Four generations of Spencer women. Josslyn says, it’s enough to start their own sorority, and Bobbie says, Sigma Spencer Phi. Carly gets a text that Willow is in recovery, and Josslyn tells the baby that she’s a lucky girl to be born into such an amazing sisterhood, but Carly thinks they’re the lucky ones. This little angel may not have a name yet, but hopefully she has the gift that can give her mother life.

Michael takes Willow’s hand, and says he held their beautiful baby girl. Willow did the hardest part. She carried her, kept her safe, and brought her into this world. Now all she has to do is wake up, so they can give their little girl a name.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth says, the only thing she needs protecting from is Nikolas; Spencer tells sonny that his father shouldn’t be anywhere near that child; and Heather tells Esme, not so fast.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the gym, Sonny tells Dante, he’s not looking for any specifics. It’s just when he looks into Esme, Sonny wants to know… Dante says he can’t tell Sonny anything, and Sonny says he’s not asking Dante to, but when he does look, he wants Dante to see the whole picture. Brando walks in wearing a suit, and Sonny asks, what’s this get-up? The wedding already happen? Brando says, yeah, and hugs Sonny. Dante says he heard; congratulations. He shakes Brando’s hand and asks where’s his invite? Brando says, it was a short list, and Dante asks, what’s Brando doing? This doesn’t exactly look like gym attire. Brando says he’s heading to The Savoy; big day for his wife.

Lucy, Sasha, Maxie, and Brook walk into The Savoy, which is decorated for their party. Sasha says, how great Lucy looked ringing the bell on Wall Street today, and Lucy says, they all looked great, but they also looked gorgeous, and powerful, and successful. She does admit, she looked pretty spectacular ringing that bell. Maxie says, it was even better flying home. How great was it that one of their investors lent them his private plane? Brook says, it was unbelievable, and thanks them for including her on the trip and letting her stand up there with them when they rang the bell. It’s a big deal. Maxie says, they’re a big deal. She knows Brook isn’t a partner, but nobody would know how fabulous Deception is if it wasn’t for her. Lucy says, exactly. That makes her invaluable. Sasha says, it’s been a rough year, but through it all, they stayed committed to Deception, and Maxie says, and now, they reap the rewards.

Elizabeth is about to go upstairs, when she hears something. She comes back, and the lights go out. She sees a man’s figure in the shadows, and says, what do you want? He says, don’t forget me, and she asks who he is. She wakes up on the couch. She looks around, and says, okay. It was just a hell of a dream. She gets up, and looks at the drafting table, seeing a painting of the beach with the words DON’T FORGET ME painted over it in red. She touches the paint, and sees it’s fresh.

Scotty asks Ava why they’re eating at Charlie’s instead of Windymere. She knows how he likes the brisk ride out there, and the fresh orange juice, and the fancy frittatas. She says she stayed in town last night, and he asks, is there trouble on Spoon Island? She says, trouble with a capital E.

Spencer pours coffee, when Esme walks in. He asks how she’s doing. He was just about to bring this up to her room. She says, tired, and sits next to him. He asks if she wants any breakfast, and she says, no food, just coffee. He says, the usual? Cream and two sugars? She says, it’s nice of him to still wait on her, especially since they know she’s not pregnant after all.

At Kelly’s, Laura tells Finn, Elizabeth means a great deal to her, and she’s glad Elizabeth has Finn in her life, especially with what she and the boys are going through right now. He says he’s helping her as much as she’ll let him. Of course (🍷) Elizabeth’s first reaction is to try and do everything on her own.

Aiden calls downstairs to Elizabeth that he can’t find his P.E. clothes, and she tells him to check in the laundry room. She tries to hide the painting, but Jake comes down and asks what she’s doing. He says, it happened again? and she stops him from reaching for the painting. He says, don’t forget me? She says she doesn’t want him to worry about this, but he says he’s not a kid anymore. He should know if someone broke in. Aiden joins them, and says, someone broke in again? She says she doesn’t know what happened. Hopefully, the police will be able to tell them. Jake says, and if they can’t? and she says she’ll deal with it. Jake says, by herself? and she says, she’ll do anything to protect them, even if she has to do it alone. Jake says she doesn’t have to, and takes out his phone. She asks who he’s calling.

Ava tells Scotty, her husband has not only invited his son to live with them at Windymere, he’s seen fit to invite Spencer’s now ex-girlfriend. He says, the famous Esme? and she says, he’s met her? He says, no, but his client Trina has given him an earful, and she says, right now, at this very moment, Esme is likely propping her feet up on Ava’s furniture, and nibbling Scotty’s fancy frittatas. The best part, she may be nibbling for two. He asks if she’s saying that Esme is having a little baby Cassadine, when Laura comes in and says, what? For the love of God, please tell her that she misheard them.

Esme says she has a confession to make, and Spencer says, what’s that? She says, last night, when the pregnancy test came up negative, she was worried he’d kick her out. He says he told her that he wouldn’t, and she says, that was before they knew the truth, and once they found out, she guesses she just got scared. Maybe this was a mistake. Maybe she should just leave and take her chances on the mainland with Sonny. Nikolas walks in, and asks why she’d be leaving.

Brando tells Sonny and Dante, Deception is going public today, so they’re throwing a launch party at The Savoy, and watch how the stock performs. The celebration’s all day; they should stop in. Dante says, that’s huge news, and Sonny says, he must be proud of Sasha. Brando says, more than anything. He’s just happy to see something good happen to her. After all that’s happened, Sasha deserves it.

Nina tells Sasha, this is a great party, and asks how it feels. Sasha says, surreal, but good surreal, and Nina says, get used to it. She has a feeling this is just the beginning. Anna and Felicia have champagne with Maxie, and Anna says she must be so proud. Maxie says she didn’t do it on her own, and Anna says, but no one else here is Felicia’s daughter. Felicia says, or Anna’s goddaughter. Maxie went from assistant at Crimson to an equity partnership with a company on the New York Stock Exchange. She’s in awe. Anna says, she’s British and they don’t do awe, but… and Maxie says, in that case, to awe.

Curtis tells Lucy that he’s honored they chose The Savoy to launch their IPO, and Gladys looks at her clipboard. She says, they have a very select group. With the exception of Brando, all of their guests are here. Brook asks why Selena Wu is crashing their event, but Gladys says, she isn’t crashing; she’s on the list. Selena comes over, and says, what an auspicious occasion. Brook says, what an honor. How is it she’s here? Maxie says, she’s on the guest list, and Selena says, all major investors were invited, so here she is. Curtis asks if she’s saying she bought a stake in Deception, and she says, almost from the beginning. It only took a little patience. When she sees a good investment, she goes for it.

Laura asks if Ava is saying Esme is pregnant, and Ava says, a mere possibility. At least that’s what she gathered before she walked out on Nikolas. Laura says, what? and Ava tells her, she said either Esme had to go or she did, and Esme’s there and she’s here, so… Laura says, oh my God. What is he thinking? and Ava says she has no idea, but please feel free to get all the gory details from her son. Laura says, believe her, she will, and walks out. Scotty says he almost feels sorry for Nikolas, and Ava says she doesn’t. Let’s discuss why she asked him here. He says, fire away, and she says, as her lawyer, she needs him to tell her what she’s entitled to if she walks away from her marriage.

Nikolas says, all things considered, Esme is better off here, but she says, as it turns out, she’s not pregnant after all. He says he won’t tell her how to feel, but he believes that’s for the best, and she says, since she’s no longer carrying Spencer’s child, there’s no reason for her to stay. Spencer says, the invitation to stay here still stands, and Nikolas says he saw how rattled she was yesterday. She deserves to feel safe. She thanks him, and says she can’t tell him how terrifying that encounter with Sonny was. If he and his Uncle Victor hadn’t come along… Nikolas says, they did and she’s safe. That’s all that matters. Spencer says he’s not sure what Uncle Sonny’s intent was, but he’d never let anyone hurt her. She says, really? Despite everything he still cares enough to protect her? He says, and he always will.

Finn comes into Elizabeth’s house, and asks if she’s okay. He’s sorry. He shouldn’t have left her alone last night. She says, he deserves a nice dinner with his family, and he says, she’s family too; all of them. He thanks Jake for calling, and Jake says, thanks for coming. Finn asks Elizabeth to tell him what happened, and she says, it was the weirdest thing. Laura left, and she went to go upstairs. The lights went out, and she thought she saw someone. Aiden says, she saw who broke into their house? and she says she only thought she did. The next thing she knew, she was waking up on the couch. Finn asks who she thinks she saw, but she says she couldn’t make out a face. The person said, don’t forget me. Then when she woke up, don’t forget me was painted on a piece of artwork on the drafting table. It was still wet. What if they don’t catch this guy? Aiden asks if there’s a way to check for fingerprints, and Jake says, or trace the paint? Finn says, smart boys, and now that they have a lead, they need to call in reinforcements.

Sonny says, Sasha’s been through a lot, but Brando deserves to be happy too. Brando says he is. He knows what people are saying; he and Sasha eloped to distract themselves from grieving their son. His own mother thinks all this is too soon. Sonny says, let him tell Brando something about his mother. Gladys has a lot of opinions, but the only ones that matter are Brando and Sasha’s. Brando says he knows. For a while, he thought his mother was right, and he and Sasha woudn’t have a future without Liam. Sonny says, listen to him. Couples have cracked under a lot less. Dante says, and no one can tell how they’ll react when they’re faced with something unthinkable like that. Brando and Sasha were there for each other. They’re getting each other through it; that’s great. Sonny says, they bring out each other’s strengths; that’s a beautiful thing. Brando says he’d love to think that, but Sasha’s strong all on her own. At first, he was afraid she was going to be in denial, but it turns out he was wrong. Sasha’s just doing it her way.

Lucy tells Selena that they’re so pleased to welcome her to the Deception family, and they’re delighted she’s here today to share in their special celebration. Selena says, the pleasure is all hers, and Lucy thanks her. She says, now if Selena will excuse them, she and her co-workers are going to go huddle and mingle. They leave, and Selena walks over to Curtis, who tells her that she’s full of surprises. She says he shouldn’t be surprised that she has varied interests. Her grandfather always told her, only an unwise farmer plants a single crop. He says, her grandfather’s very insightful. In fact, the last time she was here, she told Curtis his favorite fable. She says, which reminds her. The money tree she gave him, is it flourishing?

Lucy asks if anyone knew Selena was buying up shares of Deception, and Maxie says, absolutely not. She must have invested under a shell corporation. Brook says, now that the stock is being traded publicly, anyone who can afford it can buy in, including lady gangsters. Maxie says, Brook always knows the best things to say, and Brook says, look on the bright side. If the biggest surprise of the day is Miss Wu being an investor, the rest of the day should be pretty seamless. Maxie says, speaking of surprises, she has someone meeting her here. Felicia says, my God, look. The stock is going up. Lucy and Brook run over to see, and Austin walks in. He sees Maxie, and says, hey, big shot. Do him a favor, and don’t forget about the little people who helped her on the way up. She says she’s sorry; who is he? He asks if she wants him to remind her, and they kiss. Brook sees, and nearly has apoplexy.

Sonny tells Brando that his dad liked Sasha. He called her a spitfire. Brando says, Mike would have gotten a kick out of the fact Sasha proposed to him, and Sonny says, she did? Sonny tells Dante, the way he and Sam are headed, they’re going to be next, when Dante’s phone rings. Dante says, saved by the bell, and steps away. Brando says he has to head out; he’s literally tardy late for the party. Sonny says, tell everybody that he said, have a good time, and Brando says, will do. He and Sonny bro hug, and Brando says he knows he tells Sonny this all the time, but he really appreciates everything Sonny’s done for him. Sonny says, Brando is his family, and Brando says, it’s more than being related. Sonny has been there for him, and if he can ever repay the favor, he’d be honored. Sonny says he’ll keep that in mind. Go. His wife is waiting. Brando says he’ll see them there later, and Sonny laughs.

Felicia congratulates Lucy, and Lucy says, for what? She has no idea. Of course (🍷) she has an idea, but she loves hearing it. Felicia says, for bringing her dream company to life, for taking it public, and for ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. And choosing the right outfit to ring it in. Lucy thanks her for all of the above. It was harder picking her ensemble than running an entire company and creating it. Felicia says, she made the perfect choice, and they hug.

Curtis says, the money tree is thriving, and Selena says, as could their partnership. Has he given any more thought to her proposition? He says he hasn’t changed his mind, and she says if he won’t let her host poker games in his back room, there are plenty of establishments that will. He says, wonderful. Then he encourages her to pursue them. He’s made his position perfectly clear. She asks why she still feels there’s a chance of bringing him on her side?

Brook marches over to Austin and Maxie, and asks how long this has been going on. Maxie says, not long; it’s new. Brook says, like five minutes ago new? Which is the only acceptable amount of time to justify Maxie not telling her that she’s dating Brook’s arch nemesis. Austin says, her arch nemesis? She thinks so highly of him. Maxie says she was going to tell Brook, and Brook says she gets it. Maxie doesn’t owe her anything. She stomps off, and Austin says he thinks Maxie’s friend just made them all about her, but Maxie says, she’s hurting. She probably thinks Maxie was intentionally hiding this from her. He says, is she? Because if he’s her dirty little secret, it’s kind of okay with him; it’s kind of hot. She says, he is part of the problem. If he and Brook hadn’t been, and remained, so antagonistic toward each other, she would have felt more comfortable telling Brook about them. He asks what he can do to make this right, and she says, make peace with Brook. He says, anything but that.

Dante asks if Sonny is okay, and Sonny says, why wouldn’t he be? Dante says he knows Sonny is happy for Brando, but that’s got to bring stuff up. Sonny says, because his marriage failed, he can’t be happy for anybody else? Dante knows as well as he does, there’s life after divorce. Dante says he does know that, and Sonny asks if he’s ready to box. Dante says he’d love to, but that was a work call. Sonny says, don’t worry about it. He’ll find someone else; someone better than Dante. They laugh and hug.

Esme says she and Spencer can spend the day together at least, but he says he has plans. They’ll talk later. He leaves, and Nikolas says, Spencer’s transition back to civilian life might take time. Esme says, that’s kind of him, but they both know Spence isn’t struggling with being home; he’s struggling with her being in his home. Nikolas puts his arm around Esme, when Laura walks in. She says, sorry to interrupt, and Nikolas says he wasn’t expecting her. She says she can see that. She ran into his wife, and she thought she might stop by. He says, she saw Ava? How is she? Laura says, maybe he should ask where she is, and he says, okay, where? She says, at Charlie’s meeting with her lawyer.

Scotty and Ava sit at a table, and he says, let him understand this. She’s throwing in the towel because of an unwanted houseguest? She says, Esme has taken up residence in her home against her wishes. Can he blame her for walking out? He asks if this is really about Esme, or is she just looking for a way out?

Brando arrives at The Savoy, and asks Sasha, how’s it going, wife? She says, stock is trading well, husband. Where’s he been? He says, he just ran into Sonny and Dante at the gym. They send their congratulations, about the company and them. Gladys runs up, and says, Brando. He turns around, and she sees a bouquet in his hand. She says, they’re lovely, but flowers are unnecessary. She’s already forgiven him for eloping and leaving her behind, so he shouldn’t have. He says, good, because he didn’t; they’re for Sasha. He takes the bouquet, and gives it to Sasha, who pulls out a rose, and gives it to Gladys, saying, for her. Gladys says, very gracious. Unlike some. She looks at Brando, and he kisses Sasha.

Nikolas asks Laura, Ava is seeing a lawyer? About what? She says she can’t speak to that, but she did hear the Cassadine family might expanding. Esme says, that’s what she thought, but false alarm. Nikolas asks if Laura spoke to Ava, and Laura looks at Esme. Esme says, if they’ll excuse her, and jets. Laura says, thank God Esme’s not pregnant. At least they avoided that catastrophe. He asks if Ava was okay, and she says, Ava told her that she walked out on him. He says, they argued. He told Esme that she could stay without running it by Ava. Laura asks why he would do that, and he says, because she needed a safe haven. Sonny’s been intimidating her. He had words with her over this sex tape that’s been making the rounds. She says, Sonny’s not the only one who thinks Esme is responsible for that. Cam and Joss both think Esme framed Trina Robinson. And then there’s his wife. If Esme should be afraid of anyone, she should be afraid of Ava. He says he’s sorry Ava is upset, but he won’t let anything happen to Esme, and she asks why he’s being so protective of Esme all of a sudden.

Sonny spars with a random partner, when Spencer walks into the gym. Sonny comes out of the ring, and asks if Spencer wants to hold the bag. Spencer gets behind the heavy bag, and Sonny throws some punches. He says, it’s good to see Spencer out of Spring Ridge. How does it feel being a free man? Spencer says, it’s more complicated than he thought it would be, and Sonny says, he knows what it’s like to be away for so long, and come back and get your life on track. Spencer can do it. Spencer says, a lot happened the month he was away, and Sonny asks if he means when Cameron and Josslyn were taped having sex in his cabin, and now that tape has leaked out? Spencer says, like that, and Sonny says, now that they’re on the subject, they need to discuss Spencer’s girlfriend Esme. There’s a lot of things they need to talk about. Spencer says, he’s damn right they do. Starting with why Sonny thought it was okay to scare the hell out of her.

Nina tells Curtis, fantastic party, and says, hi, to Selena. Curtis introduces them, and Selena says she’s long been a fan of Nina’s magazine. Curtis says, she has? and Selena says, of course (🍷). How is one to be taken seriously in business if one has no sense of trends or style? She asks if Nina wouldn’t agree, and Nina says she certainly would. She thinks she and Selena have a mutual acquaintance; Sonny Corinthos. Selena says, yes. Mr. Corinthos has proven to be a valuable friend, and one can never have too many of those. She looks at Curtis, and says, it’s been a pleasure to meet Nina. She leaves, and Nina says, what was that? Curtis says, trouble.

Felicia tells Anna, imagine, she used to be so bored with stocks and bonds, and Anna asks if she thinks she and Mac are going to investing now. Felicia says, no, too risky, and Anna tells her, says the women who went to Switzerland on her own to rescue her daughter. Felicia says, some risks are worth taking. She can’t wait to see Victor Cassadine get his, and Anan says, her too. Tomorrow, they get the bad guy. Today… Felicia says, we celebrate, and they clink champagne flutes.

Dante asks if the new alarm system was armed, but Elizabeth says she disarmed it. The boys kept forgetting and setting it off. Finn says, the patrols are still driving by, right? and Dante says, they are, but they didn’t report any unusual activity last night. In the kitchen, Aiden asks if they shouldn’t call Cam and let him know it happened again last night. Jake says, Aiden heard mom; he has enough to deal with right now. Aiden says, like what? and Jake says, like college stuff; like girlfriend stuff. Aiden says he wants to feel safe in their house again, and Jake puts his arm around Aiden. Elizabeth says, the dream was bad enough. What if she heard that person in her dream because they were right here, standing over her while she slept? Someone was in her house again. Dante says, and it sounds like that someone’s getting bolder.

Maxie tells Brando that he’s looking sharp, and Sasha agrees. Lucy says, she was thinking, today is special, and she thought, maybe the Face of Deception should also be the Voice of Deception. Sasha says she’s not sure she understands, and Lucy says, now that all the guests have arrived and settled in, she’d love if Sasha would say a few words; make a speech. Maxie says, that’s a great idea.

Scotty says, for reasons that defy logic, Ava is in love with Nikolas. For more obvious reasons, Nikolas is in love with her; he’s crazy about her. She says, that’s certainly one way to look at it, and Scotty says, so he screws up a few times. Why pull that ripcord? She says she may have been a bit rash, and he says, let’s take love out of the equation. He suggests she hang on to her marital property; plant her flag. She says, as always, he’s been invaluable. She knows exactly what she needs to do.

Nikolas says, he’s only invested in Esme so far as she affects Spencer, and Laura says, now that they know Esme’s not pregnant, and they’re not a couple anymore, she doesn’t affect Spencer, and she doesn’t need to be here. He says he can’t leave her at Sonny’s mercy, and she says she seriously doubts Esme is in any real danger from Sonny. He says, if he sends Esme away, and anything happens to her for any reason, Spencer will feel guilty for the rest of his life. Surely they don’t want that. She says, he’s right; they don’t want that and don’t call her Shirley. But they don’t want his wife to leave him, do they? He says, it was a rapidly evolving situation. Spencer found out Esme might be pregnant. Does she know who he confided in first? She says, not Victor, and he says she got it on the first guess. That’s why he stepped in so quickly. It seemed like the best solution for everyone involved. She asks if he told Ava, but he says, she was out the door before he could get that far. She says, maybe she can talk to Ava later, but doesn’t he think he should be more proactive about savaging his own marriage? He says, she’s right. He’ll get right on it. He takes out his phone, and excuses himself. He leaves, and Esme comes back. She says, she senses she should go, but Laura says, not before Esme hears what she’s got to say.

Sonny says he and Esme just had a chat, and Spencer says, in other words, Sonny intimidated her? Sonny says, Spencer’s going to talk to him about intimidation when he just did time for terrorizing his stepmother, and using Sonny’s daughter Avery as a pawn? Spencer says he made mistakes, and Sonny says, he’s still making them. He’s defending Esme, even after what she did to Cameron and Josslyn, not to mention Trina. Spencer says he doesn’t believe she did any of those things, and Sonny says, let’s say it wasn’t Trina. Was it him? Spencer says, Sonny knows he would never do anything like that to Josslyn, and Sonny says, okay then. Spencer says, they granted Esme sanctuary on Spoon Island to keep her safe from Sonny, and Sonny asks if Spencer thinks he’d really hurt Esme. Spencer says, no, but she is afraid, and Sonny asks what exactly she said went down between them. Spencer says, that if his father and Uncle Victor hadn’t shown up, she doesn’t know what would have happened. Sonny says, here’s what went down. He was just convincing her to own up to what she did. Victor and Nikolas came, and then she had all the waterworks, crying and tears everywhere. Spencer says he doesn’t think Sonny would ever harm Esme physically, but even if her fears are unwarranted, he can’t turn his back on her. Sonny says, Spencer’s loyalty should be to the people who have been by his side. He’s backing the wrong horse.

In a secluded area, Sasha takes a pill, and chases it with red wine.

Austin says, cards on the table, and Brook starts to talk at the same time. He says, forgive him; ladies first. She says she doesn’t like him, and he says, great. It can’t come as a surprise that the feeling’s mutual. She says, but she does like Maxie, and he says, so does he. She says, and putting their issues aside, she sees he’s been a really good friend to Maxie, and he says, and Brook’s been a really good friend to her, so they have that in common. What they also have in common is people like Leo and Bailey, who seem to get hurt when they’re gunning for one another. She says, so is he thinking what she’s thinking? and he says, a cease fire. She says, deal, and they shake hands. He asks if she’d be doing this if he wasn’t with Maxie, and she says, hell no, and walks away.

Brook asks Maxie if Austin makes her happy, and Maxie says, so far. Brook says, that’s all she cares about, and Felicia says, same here. Maxie says, Felicia likes him, right? and Felicia says, so far.

Dante bags the painting, and says he’ll have it checked for prints. Elizabeth will have to come down and have hers done so they can exclude her. In the meantime, her house has been accessed multiple times with new locks and keys. It might be a good idea to stay somewhere else. At least until they catch this guy. She says she can’t do that to the boys. This is their home. They’ve been through enough. Finn says, they can stay with him, but she says he doesn’t have enough space. He says, they’ll camp out, and make it fun. Dante says he’ll leave them to figure it out. He’ll let them know if he hears anything. He leaves, and Finn says, maybe his place is not ideal. He’ll book a hotel for her and the boys. She says she can’t let him do that. She guesses she can ask Laura if the boys can stay with her, and Finn asks where she’ll be, and she says, far enough away to keep them all safe.

Lucy clinks something against her glass, and asks if the guests can gather up a little bit. She wants to thank them for being here to celebrate Deception going public today. Everyone applauds, and she says, and to commemorate this special occasion, a few words from the Face of Deception, Sasha Gilmore. Everyone applauds again, and Sasha says, no dream can be realized without hard work. And she works with some of the most dedicated women in the world. Lucy Coe, their founder; Maxie Jones, Brook Lynn Quartermaine – several people go woo-woo with each name – and she thinks they’d agree that their success couldn’t happen without the people standing in this room. The investors, Deception staff, friends and family, as well those who – she looks at Brando – can only be here in spirit. She raises her glass, and says, to Deception, and everyone toasts.

Spencer says, Sonny keeps telling him that he needs to grow up; that he needs to protect, not punish the people who love him. Sonny says, but Esme is not on that list. He doesn’t know what game Esme is playing, and he’s trying to figure it out, but he does know it’s all about Esme, and she’s going to use Spencer and whoever else to get what she wants. Spencer says, that’s Sonny’s opinion, but that’s not how he sees her. Sonny says, if that’s what Spencer thinks, he doesn’t know Esme like he thinks he does. She’s going to use him. Spencer thinks he should get going, and Sonny tells him, be careful. Sonny has made some choices in his life that have hurt so many people he loves. He doesn’t know if he can get that back, and Spencer is dangerously close to walking in his shoes. Sonny picks up his bag, and heads for the door, saying, welcome home, nephew.

Laura says she certainly hopes Esme didn’t have anything to do with this video of Josslyn and Cameron, and Esme says, of course (🍷) she didn’t. Why won’t anyone believe her? Nikolas says, they’ll just have to let the police investigation run it’s course. In the meantime, he’s keeping an open mind. Laura tells Esme, her son has extended his hospitality to her. Laura hopes Esme doesn’t betray that trust. Ava walks in, and says, they already know the answer to that.

Selena tells Curtis, that was a lovely speech. Is he an investor? He says he doesn’t discuss his portfolio, but he’s sure she made a bundle on her shares of Deception. Seems she won’t need to host poker here anymore. She says, she’ll be the judge of what she needs, and if he agrees to her terms, she’ll provide whatever it is he needs. She flounces off, and Maxie yells, it’s going up again. Sasha asks Nina what that means, and Nina says, it means… Brook says, they’re going to be insanely rich. She and Maxie clink glasses, and Gladys smacks Brando’s shoulder and says, that means they are too.

Finn says he was thinking Elizabeth could stay with him and Violet, but she says she can’t. Look at what’s happening. This insanity isn’t about the house; that’s just the place where it’s happening. Her family is being targeted, and she doesn’t know why. She’s not going to put her boys, or Finn and Violet at risk. So the best thing is for her to stay by herself. He says, stay where? Here? She says, it doesn’t seem to matter where she goes, so she might as well stay put. He says, he’ll take the boys to school. When he gets back, they’ll talk about this. She says she’s made up her mind. No one is going to run her out of the house she shared with her husband.

In the kitchen, Aiden tells Jake, he loves spending time with grandma, but leaving mom here by herself? Jake says, it’ll be okay; mom’s tough. And Dante will catch the person doing this. Aiden says, but he hasn’t yet. Someone keeps sneaking into their house without getting caught. How does a person do that? Unless… What if it’s not a person at all? Jake says, of course (🍷) it’s a person. How else would he explain what happened with mom’s ring and her dress, and Franco’s art studio? Aiden says, what if it’s Franco?

Tomorrow, Nikolas asks Ava if that’s an ultimatum; Esme asks if there’s a path forward for her and Spencer; Curtis tells Drew, he’s going to fight like hell until it’s over; and Sonny says, what if he says no?

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Marge asks Marge Sr. if she can believe she’s 75, and Marge Sr. says she still thinks she’s 50. They go over the details for Marge Sr.’s birthday party, and Marge says, they’re having a big Hungarian menu, a Hungarian violinist, and there will be pictures of Marge when she was little. In Marge’s interview, she says, Marge Sr. was born in Hungary, and in 1956, when she was ten, there was an uprising; the Hungarian revolution. There were tanks and soldiers everywhere. Marge Sr. was harassed, and it was very scary. Austria opened the border, and Marge Sr. and her grandparents fled in the middle of the night with just the clothes on their backs. They were on the first airplane out of Austria to the United States, and since it was Christmas eve, President Eisenhower brought Marge Sr. a doll. Marge Sr. tells Marge that she didn’t speak the language, and in her interview, Marge says she can’t imagine leaving everything she’s known behind. Her grandmother sacrificed to give them a better life. She asks if it’s the life Marge Sr. imagined, and Marge Sr. says, she didn’t imagine. Her mother cleaned house and her grandfather had two jobs. They go over the guest list, and Marge hopes Jennifer can get Bill to come. She knows who’s not coming – Teresa. Marge knows Marge Sr. likes her, but she doesn’t need the drama. Marge Sr. says she’s not interested.

Teresa tells Gia that she’s cleaning out the pantry. Dolores is on her way over to pick stuff for the women’s shelter. Milania calls, saying, practice is over, and she’s wondering where her ride is. Teresa tells Gia to go get her, and in Teresa’s interview, she says, they’re moving in a week. She’s like a chicken without a head, and can’t remember anything. Dolores arrives, and Teresa shows her the ton of stuff she’s donating. Dolores says, it will be a big help, and they sit down for coffee. Teresa asks how Dolores’s mom is, and Dolores says she’s feeling better. She saw David when she was visiting her mom in the hospital, and she has to move on. Teresa says, Dolores needs to get away, and Dolores says she hasn’t had a vacation since long before covid. Ha! I haven’t had more than a long weekend since the late 90s. Teresa says she’d like to get away with Dolores, but not so much the other girls. She didn’t like how Marge said, we’re good, and wouldn’t wear her workout line for the softball game. Traci wouldn’t either. She tells Dolores that Marge is having a party for her mom, but she’s not invited. She thinks Marge’s mom is great, but she doesn’t care. She doesn’t want to be around someone who’s negative to her and Luis. To her, Marge is toxic.

Traci, Tiki, and daughter Teagan go to Melissa and Joe #2’s for lunch. They eat outside by the pool, and Joe says, it was an honor playing softball with Tiki. Tiki says he can’t help but be competitive. Melissa says she can’t walk, and Traci asks if her leggings were too tight. She couldn’t believe Teresa wanted her and Marge to wear them, when she’d just been screaming at Marge at the Treescape event, and mad at Traci because Tiki asked Luis questions. It was beyond scope of reality to be mad at her about something her husband said. Joe and Tiki wisely remove themselves from this conversation to play ball in the yard with the kids. Traci thanks Melissa for letting her bring Teagan, since she wants her daughter to get more social. Melissa thinks she’ll grow out of it, but Traci doesn’t know if Teagan is ready for kindergarten, and got her a tutor. She wants to set Teagan up for success. Melissa says she worries about Antonia. She seems mopey since she got hurt. Melissa had gone through a phase at Antonia’s age, but for a different reason. Her father had passed away and they moved, and she got depressed. It was a sad time, and she rebelled. She was jumping out of windows, and hanging out with the wrong crowd. She went wild. She sees Antonia changing her pattern, and she’s freaking out. In Melissa’s interview, she says, Antonia is at a time in her life when she can slip up, and make mistakes that will haunt her. Traci says, Antonia has a stable, secure life that Melissa didn’t have. She has normal teenage issues.

Jackie takes the kids for ice cream, and gets a small cup. They sit outside to eat it, and in Jackie’s interview, she says, it’s the first bite first bite of anything in the last 18 years that deviated from the rules of how she’s allowed to eat. She feels like she’s walking off a cliff. The voices in her head are telling her to stop after three bites, but the kids are offering her a taste of their ice cream and vice versa. That’s never happened before. She’s never been a participant in getting ice cream. She’s never been part of the adventure. For many people, it’s a small thing, but for her, it’s a turning point. She ate more ice cream in one sitting than she has in her entire adult life, and she enjoyed the time with her kids. I think about how many social gatherings revolve around food, both with family and friends, and I truly feel badly for her. She’s missed out on so much.

Melissa takes Antonia to meet with her trainer Maria at the gym. In Melissa’s interview, she says Antonia has been working with her trainer for a couple of months to get back into moving her knee, and doing gymnastics. To get Antonia used to putting pressure on her knee, Maria suggests working on jumping up first. In her interview, Melissa says, she hasn’t seen Antonia train in a while, since Joe #2’s been taking her. For months, she said she couldn’t work her knee, and it’s been scary. Finally, she’s putting the pressure on her knee that she needs to. Thank you, Jesus. Melissa squeals about how good it is, and how proud she is of Antonia. She loves hearing that Antonia wants to tumble. Antonia says she wants to be better, and Melissa says, it broke her heart when Antonia said she wanted to quit. It was like she gave up on life. Antonia says, Melissa is making it sound like she’s depressed, and Melissa says she got nervous, since that happened to her at Antonia’s age. But she wasn’t accepted at her new school the way Antonia has been. Antonia says, it was stressful, and Melissa says she takes ownership for not taking Antonia’s feelings into consideration. Antonia says, Melissa had a childhood that was bad, and Melissa asks if Antonia wants to hug it out, but gets a hard no.

Jackie has a session with therapist Ilene (I catch her name this time), who asks how she’s feeling since their last session. Jackie says she felt good. Her husband wanted to know how he could help, but she’s not ready for that. She doesn’t want him to think she’s crazy. Ilene asks how long they’ve been married, and Jackie says, 15 years. Ilene says, she thinks he doesn’t know her? and Jackie says she was surprised when he said he notices everything. Ilene says, Evan loves her unconditionally. She wants to help Jackie communicate with him successfully, and deal with her issues in more constructive ways. She asks how the ice cream challenge went, and Jackie says she didn’t have a problem eating it, and ate more than half. It was fun, but then she thought about it all day, and felt guilty. A regular person would skip eating something else, and it took a lot out of her not compensate. Ilene says, a normal person wouldn’t skip eating something else because they ate ice cream. Compensatory behavior shows up in most eating disorders. Jackie is choosing not to give to that behavior because she wants to get healthier. It’s a choice. Jackie says she knows she could do it forever until her heart gives out. When some people are stressed, they stop, but she does the opposite. She’d lost two or three pounds when she had a fight with a friend and her husband was involved. In Jackie’s interview, she says she wants to be okay with food, so she doesn’t have to keep the peace with people she doesn’t want to. They decide for her next challenge, she’ll have a serving of something extra, and Ilene says her body needs extras. Indulge in them, and use her energy to get healthier. Jackie says she wants to sit at breakfast and not just eat strawberries. Ilene says, one thing a day, but no compensating or taking anything away.

Everyone gets ready for Marge Sr.’s birthday party. Well, except for Teresa. Jackie tells Evan, she wants to try new stuff; one new thing each day. She’s scared because she feels like she’ll gain weight. Evan says even if she does, it won’t change anything. She looks great at any weight, but she’s healthier at certain weights. She hopes she’ll enjoy it, and not just be scared, and Evan says, once she embraces it, it will go great. Jennifer tells Bill that she’s excited to be invited again. Now that she’s good with Marge, she wonders if Bill will get back in the men’s good graces. Bill says he’s happy to support Jennifer, and if she’s moving on, he will too. In Jennifer’s interview, she says, she was worried Bill didn’t care enough to try, but him making the extra effort to be nice to her friends for her, gives her hope. Bill says, Joe #2 and Evan said Jennifer didn’t have a good heart, and he can’t accept that, but Evan texted him and apologized. We see a clip of Evan texting, hey man, I’m sorry, and Bill says he has no problem with Evan, but who knows about Joe #2? Melissa asks Joe #2 how things are with Bill, and he says he understands Bill is mad, but he hasn’t apologized. Bill shouldn’t let his wife treat her friends like sh*t. He needs to face it, and Joe’s not afraid to tell him.

Milania points out Nana’s favorite drawer in the kitchen, and Teresa asks if they remember Nono cooking squid. We flash back that, and there’s a collective, eww! from the universe. Teresa says, they’ll make new memories in the new house, and in her interview, she says she can’t believe they’re moving. When they moved in, she thought it would be forever. We flash back to that, ad she says she wouldn’t be making such a big step if she didn’t feel in her heart it was right. Teresa points out some things the buyers are taking along with the house, and says she’s going to miss the staircase. We flash back to Gia coming down in her prom dress, and Milania sliding down the banister. Teresa says she loves the foyer. They move on to the living room, and Gia says she remembers taking the family portrait. We flash back to that, and Teresa says, they always used the room for holidays. Milania says she remembers Joe #1 standing at the banister, and we flash back to Juicy Joe making a speech about family. Teresa says, that’s when the legal problems started, and Milania says, the house is their only memory of dad. Teresa says, there were good memories here, but – she tears up – they’re going to make new ones. She tells the girls, don’t mind her. She’s getting her period.

The party begins. There are beautiful flowers on all the tables, a lot of food, and the violin player begins. In Marge’s interview, she says they practiced Hungarian traditions when she was growing up, and only spoke Hungarian at home. But when her grandparents passed, they lost the traditions. It was important to bring them back for Marge Sr.’s birthday; they brought back beautiful memories. She says, let’s get this party started in Hungarian. Kezdődjön a buli according to Google translator. Tons of people come, and Dolores says she loves a good violin. Who would have thought? The guys gather by the bar, and Joe #3 wonders if Bill will make it, and Frank says he just wants to have a good time. Joe #3 says, if Joe #2 lets loose on Bill, he’ll have to shut Joe down. Frank says he’s on board with that. Melissa and Joe #2 arrive, and Melissa points out that Joey’s (#5?) christening was there, and we flash back to Joe #2 starting a fight with Joe #1. Evan says he texted Bill, and Frank asks if Joe #2 is going to be okay if Bill comes. Joe says, he’ll see how Bill acts, and Frank asks if Joe is going to start with him. Joe says, that depends, and Joe #3 tells him not to start anything here. No arguments. Bill and Jennifer arrive.

Joe #3 asks how Bill is, and Bill says, it’s getting better. They bro hug and go to the bar. Frank asks if everything is good, and in Frank’s interview, he says he sees Joe #2 coming over. He’s going to expect an apology from Bill, and Frank honestly doesn’t think Bill owes him one. The situation might not go well. Joe #2 asks how Bill is doing. They missed him at the softball game. Bill says his surgery ran late, and Frank complains that he only got short texts from Bill. He doesn’t like tension among the men. Bill says he wasn’t happy when Joe #2 texted f*** you to him, and Joe says Bill’s wife kicked them out of the house. He thought he and Bill were friends, and expected a phone call. He should have called, and said, whatever the girls are going through, they’ll fix this. Bill says he understands, and admits his wife was out of place. A lot of stuff happened, and things took place leading up to it. Joe says he was hurt, and Bill says he was too. Joe says, then Bill cut out, but Frank says, they were picking on him. Bill and Evan agree they’re good, and Bill says, this is what happens when they get involved in the women’s issues. Joe #2 admits maybe it was wrong on his part. The women have stupid arguments, and they’re not like that. Everything is all good, and Bill is glad they’re in a better place. Translation: He has his drinking buddies back. Joe #2 asks what Bill is going to do to get back in the group, and Bill says he’ll kiss Joe’s butt like Frank did. We flash back to that, and Bill adds that he’ll carve his initials in Joe’s butt, and write Bill’s Bitch. Alrighty then. Jennifer says, it looks like they’re getting along. She thinks this is going to be a good night. They talk Jersey Shore traffic, which I totally understand. It’s horrible. Frank says Dolores is up for a trip, and Dolores tells the women, everyone is going to Nashville. Jackie says she and Evan went for their anniversary, and Marge says she heard Nashville is like Nash Vegas. Joe #3 tells Frank that the women seem to bond when they go away. Clearly, he’s never watched the show. Dolores says she told Teresa she’d been thinking about a trip, but Teresa doesn’t want to go without Luis. Melissa asks if Marge invited Teresa to the birthday party, but Marge says, not after the softball game. Tracy tells Melissa that Teresa said if Marge was wearing her leggings, her ass wouldn’t jiggle so much, and in Jackie’s interview, she says, body shaming is never okay. Agreed. Tracy says Teresa is mad at her, but not her husband, and Dolores says, Teresa won’t fight with men. Marge says, Teresa puts men on a pedestal, even the ones who don’t treat her right, like her ex-husband. Dolores says Teresa can hold her own.

They go into the main ballroom, and everyone gets food. Jennifer says, goulash sounds like something someone would eat in jail. In Jackie’s interview, she says, there are too many options. She’s going to load her plate with food, and people will see she’s eating, but she’s not going to eat everything. Uh-oh. That sounds like playing games with it a bit. She says she’s watching how Jennifer eats what she wants. It’s a crazy concept to her, and she can’t wait until she can just do that. A guy announces the guest of honor, the one and only Marge Sr., and Marge dances in with Joe #3. Dolores says she wants to be like that at 75. Me too, if I make it. Marge tells everyone to take their glasses in hand. This is a gold circle moment for her mother. She was a Hungarian immigrant who rode a bicycle over the boarder to escape communism at age ten, with only the clothes on her back. She was a single mother, and the best role model. Marge loves her so much. In Marge’s interview, she says, even though she gives her mother a hard time – we flash back to Marge talking smack to and about Marge Sr. – one thing she saw was that Marge Sr. could triumph over the darkest things in life. She never squashed Marge’s dreams, or made he feel less then. Marge Sr. told her that she could do anything she wanted. She tells everyone that she hopes Marge Sr. lives to be 150, because she can’t live without her, and asks everyone to raise a glass to Marge Sr. In Jennifer’s interview, she says, for so long, she had this image of Marge being heartless, and not caring about family the way Jennifer does. But it’s clear she loves her mother and would do anything for her family. She guesses they have more in common than she thought. Bill wonders if Jennifer will ever get there with her mother, and the cake is brought out. They sing Happy Birthday, and the announcer guy really gets into song. Like, really. Marge Sr. says, it’s the best night of her life, and Marge says she’s happy it was such a beautiful night, and hopes to be as vivacious as Marge Sr. at her age. She loves her mother so much, and Marge Sr. means the world to her. Bill picks up Marge Sr. and dances around with her. Everyone joins in.

Next time, Teresa moves, Jackie falls off a mechanical bull, Teresa accuses Marge of spreading rumors about Luis, and Teresa clears the table, literally swiping everything to the floor.
