What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Doc says he just got off the phone with Martin, and Laura asks if his office got the paperwork. He says, they did, and he beneficially added to the adoption petition, which means everything is on track for them both to become Ace’s parents. She says, music to her ears, and they kiss. There’s a knock at the door, and Laura opens it to Cyrus, who says, hello, sister.

Anna asks what Dante’s got, and he says, Pentenville confirmed that they were relocating Olivia Jerome. CSI says the transport van was sabotaged and two guards were restrained, but unharmed. This is just an overview until they get the crime scene report. Jordan says, sounds like a prison break gone wrong, but Anna says, with Olivia Jerome, nothing’s ever that simple.

Sam lets Alexis into her apartment and says, she didn’t have to come over, but Alexis says, Sam seemed a little frazzled when she bailed on lunch. Not to mention vague. So she thought, why not meddle? Is she okay? Sam says, yeah. She’s just keeping an extra eye on Danny. Alexis asks, why? and Sam says she’s going to tell Alexis, and then Alexis is going to tell her that she’s worried over nothing, and nothing serious is going on with her kid.

Ava tells Josslyn, Sonny isn’t here, but she’s more than welcome to come in and wait for him. Josslyn asks if Ava can call him because he’s not picking up for her, and Ava says she’s sure he’s just busy. Josslyn says, but she’s Avery’s mom, so he might not be as busy for her, and Ava says, maybe she can help, but Josslyn says, no. It’s really Sonny she needs to speak to and it’s very important. Ava tells her, like she said, Josslyn is more than welcome to wait, and Josslyn asks if she knows when he’ll be back, and Ava says, not precisely, no. Josslyn says, then she’s going to look for him, but Ava says, wait. Don’t do that.

Dex lets Sonny in, and Sonny says, he didn’t run. He didn’t even start packing. Dex says, Sonny has at least one guard stationed nearby, and Sonny says, Dex knows how he operates. That’s why he’s carrying. He also knows his only way out is through him. What’s he going to do? Is he going to take a shot?

Laura asks, what happened to the ground rules? Cyrus is supposed to call her before he comes over. He says he knows, but he was in the neighborhood and just wanted to say hello to his sister and his grandnephew. Doc says, now is not a good time. They just put Ace down for his nap. Cyrus promises this will just be a quick visit. He has another engagement immediately after. Doc says, and yet he found time to stop by, and Cyrus says, one should always find time for family. Doesn’t he think? Laura looks at Doc, who shrugs, and tells Cyrus, come in. They hear Ace coo on the baby monitor, and Cyrus asks if he can just have a glimpse of him, but Doc says he’s afraid even a glimpse is out of the question. Naps are just so important at his age. Doc goes to Ace’s room, and Cyrus says, it seems Ace isn’t the only one in need of a nap. She says, don’t let them keep him from his next appointment, and he says, before he goes, has she been in touch with Nikolas since he left for Pentenville? She says she has, and he says he knows how hard this must be for her, and Ace. She thanks him, and he asks how they’ve taken to being Ace’s temporary guardians. She says she guesses there’s no reason she shouldn’t tell him. She and Doc have decided to legally adopt Ace. He says, that’s wonderful news. Congratulations. She thanks him and says she’s pleased that he’s so pleased, but she’s a little bit surprised. He asks why his happiness at her good fortune should surprise her, and she says she supposes it shouldn’t. He says he can’t think of two better people to shepherd their little angel through this world, and she says she thinks there’s something they need to get clear right now. Ace’s adoption does not guarantee Cyrus a bigger role in Ace’s life. As a matter of fact, or any role.

Josslyn asks why she doesn’t want to look for Sonny. Ava knows where he is, doesn’t she? Ava says, Sonny doesn’t apprise her of his movements, and Josslyn says, but she knows what he’s doing. Ava says, what she knows is, it’s a waste of time scouring the city looking for him when the one place they know he’ll show up is here. And if what Josslyn has to say is so important, then stay. Josslyn asks if Ava can just call her when he gets back, and Ava says, she’s obviously very upset and Josslyn can tell her; has something happened? Josslyn says, it’s personal, and Ava says she sees. So this must be about Dex. Or Michael.

Dex says he doesn’t want to hurt Sonny, but he’s not going down without a fight, and Sonny says, if he wanted Dex dead, he’d be rotting in the ground right now, no matter what Carly said. But he’s right about one thing. Dex says, what’s that? and Sonny says, Dex joined his organization under false pretenses, working for Michael the whole time. Dex says, his job was to protect Sonny, and he did, and Sonny says, Dex knows too much about his business and about him. And all he knows about Dex is that he can’t trust him. So if Dex was in his position, how would he handle this?

Dante says, they’ve got the crime scene report, handing it to Anna, who asks, what do they know? He says, the transport van hit a spike strip that blew out the tires. They pulled the van over and they were ambushed by two masked men. They tied up the guards and took Olivia Jerome. Shortly thereafter, they heard a gunshot. They freed themselves, one of them called for help, the other went into the woods in the direction of the gunshot and found Olivia’s body. Anna says, did they pick up the gunman’s trail yet? but he says, not yet, and she says she needs to see the body.

Alexis says, Danny was drinking? Danny? Sam asks if she’d be less surprised if it were Rocco or Scout, and Alexis says she couldn’t be more surprised. Danny? She never in a million years. Sam says she knows. Here they are. Alexis asks if Sam flipped out. She would have flipped out. She has flipped out. The trouble Kristina used to get into took years off her life. Sam says, actually, no. She was angry, but she didn’t really raise her voice or give him a long lecture or anything. Alexis asks if she gave him a short one, and Sam says, they had a really good conversation about it. Alexis says, good, and Sam says, it was actually quite mature… of her, not him. Alexis asks if she grounded him, and Sam says, hell yes. Alexis says, how long? and Sam says, until he learns responsibility. Alexis says, so she guesses Sam didn’t want to tie herself down to a specific timeline, and Sam says she didn’t think of it that way, but she likes the way Alexis thinks. She thinks somewhere between one month and forever sounds good. Alexis says, sounds reasonable, and Sam says, they got to a good place. Alexis says, okay. Is Sam ready for her to be honest? Sam says she doesn’t know. Is it something she’ll want to hear? Alexis says she thinks so. She thinks what Sam did was very normal parenting. Actually, it sounds like excellent parenting. But it sounds like Sam is still bothered. Sam says, taking the you’re grounded, but if this ever happens again and you find yourself in this position, you can call me or Dante and we’ll come and get you, no questions asked route is a normal course of action, right? Alexis says, last time she checked, and Sam says, but Danny is Jason’s son and he’s getting more and more like him every day. And Jason was drawn to danger. What if Danny is too?

Cyrus says, of course (🍷) he’ll respect Laura’s wishes as Ace’s adoptive mother, and she says, good idea. She moves to open the door, and he says, but he must ask… She says, that was fast, and he says, why would she want to deprive Ace of family after he’s already lost so much? She says, it’s because he’s lost so much that she wants Cyrus to keep his distance. She wants Ace to have some kind of stability in his young life. Cyrus says he would only bring stability. He’d be a constant presence in Ace’s life. As constant as she deems appropriate, no more, but certainly no less. She says she appreciates his good intentions, but he has to just rest assured that Ace has a lot of family who really love him. He says he knows that, and it gives him comfort, but it’s a family he’d dearly love to be part of. It’s one reason he stopped by today, to offer her what comfort he could after losing Spencer and seeing Nikolas go to prison. He cares about her. She says, he keeps telling her that, and he says, and she keeps doubting. How long is she going to distrust him? He thinks he’s proven by now that he’s turned over a new leaf. She says, it wasn’t that long ago, when he expressed his distress over somebody else’s misfortune, when what he was really doing was rubbing their nose in it. He doesn’t deny that, does he? He says he does not. He owns his misdeeds and carries the shame of them. She says, okay, but the rest of them remember it, and he says, okay. She tells him that if he wants the rest of them to believe he’s turned over a new leaf, then it may take more than just his word. He may have to forgive them their trespasses if they need more time to forgive his. He says he understands, which is why he asked her about Nikolas. Not to rub her nose it in, but because he wants her to know that he’s arranged for Nikolas to be protected in Pentenville, so that she can have the peace that comes in knowing he’ll be safe. She says, this is exactly what she’s talking about. How can he expect her to believe that he’s turned over a new leaf when he’s offering to pull strings in prison?

Josslyn says, what makes Ava think this is about Michael? and Ava says, Michael came by, and he confessed to Sonny. She happened to overhear. Josslyn says, shocker, and Ava says, come on. This can’t be the first Josslyn’s hearing of this. Josslyn asks what Michael confessed, but Ava says, he didn’t mention it. And she doesn’t think it occurred to Sonny that Josslyn and Dex are too crazy about each other to keep secrets, especially big secrets. Like the fact that Michael hired Dex, first to spy on Sonny and then to protect him. Josslyn says, fine. Yes, she knew. Ava says, that’s a heavy burden to carry. She empathizes. If Josslyn would like somebody to talk to… Josslyn thanks her, but says she thinks she’d rather talk to her mom, and Ava says, of course (🍷), but it looks like she needs somebody to talk to right now. And since she’s here right now… Josslyn asks why she cares so much.

Dex says he expected Sonny to handle it the way he almost did, and Sonny says, in Dex’s opinion, what should he do now? Dex says, if it were his call? and Sonny says, yeah. Dex says, start over. All the cards are on the table. He’s fresh out of secrets. It feels good. Yes, if it were up to him, he would keep working for Sonny, but he knows that’s not possible. He’s become a liability Sonny can’t afford. Sonny says, perceptive as usual, and Dex says, for what it’s worth (🍷), he didn’t just learn about Sonny’s business. He learned about Sonny and the man he is. When Michael hired him, this was just a job, but then he got to know Sonny and his family and realized Sonny had a code and principles that guide him. He knows Sonny has no reason to believe him, but he wasn’t lying when he said he admired Sonny. Even now. He knows he shouldn’t, but he does.

The morgue attendant slides a body out, and Anna looks under the sheet. She says, yeah, that’s Olivia. Shot point blank in the back of the head. Olivia Jerome was executed. (We don’t see her, so I guess it was too expensive to bring her in just to lie there.)

Cyrus says he’s long since cut ties with the criminal element and those who kept him trapped in the dark far from the Lord’s love, and Laura says, if it’s not his henchman who would be looking after her son in jail, then who is he talking about? He says he found another group of men in prison, lost souls seeking redemption, just like him. Well- intentioned men living with the consequences of their mistakes. His mission is to provide them an example to live by, to offer counsel to guide them through their sentences, so they can turn their life around in prison and out. She says, right, but they’re inmates, criminals. He hasn’t said they’re not dangerous. Cyrus says, of course (🍷) they’re dangerous. They wouldn’t be able to provide protection if they were meek little lambs. She says she guesses she was hoping he bribed a few guards or something, and he says, with what? He has no riches to bribe anyone. She says, maybe with those hidden riches he uses to bribe people secretly? and he laughs. He says, if only he were half as colorful as he is in her imagination, and she says, then he’d be wearing half an orange jumpsuit. He laughs again and says, she’s so funny. All she needs to know is that after his release, he never abandoned his flock. Nor has he abandoned his cause. She asks, what is his cause? and he says, with the Lord’s blessing, his flock is about to get bigger. This afternoon is the inaugural broadcast of his radio show. Soon, very soon in fact, he’ll be spreading God’s word to everyone in Port Charles.

Sam tells Alexis, on Valentine’s Day, she and Dante decided to have a date night here at the house. He cooked for her. They thought all of the kids were in their rooms, and then there was a knock at the door just as they were about to get romantic. And Dante opened the door and there was a cop with Danny. Alexis says, perspective. Danny isn’t the first teenager to sneak out of the house with his friends and go drinking. Sam says, sneaking out is one thing, but sneaking out by a fire escape that’s suspended to the side of a building on a penthouse floor? Alexis says, clearly, Danny doesn’t have any fear of heights? and Sam says, gee, I wonder who he takes after? What if Danny hadn’t gotten caught and he would have tried to sneak in the same way? Up the building? What if he slipped or lost his balance? Alexis says, okay. She’s right to be asking all these questions and she’s right to be extra vigilant. However, one incident is not a pattern necessarily. Sam says, so this is normal teenage stuff? and Alexis says, all she knows is what Kristina did to her. Sam says, Kristina’s an angel right now compared to those things, and Alexis says she never raised a boy, so she has no idea what’s normal for boys. Sam says she gets that all teenagers take chances, but what if Danny’s hardwired to take bigger chances? And if so, how does she keep him safe? Because if he’s anything like his father, the more she tries to control him, the more he’s going to fight to be free.

Anna closes the morgue vault, when Dante comes in. He says he debriefed the detectives on the scene. They found this nearby. He hands Anna a plastic evidence bag, and she takes out a gun. She looks it over and says, oh yeah. Jordan asks if she found something, and Anna says, see that marking right there? The WSB put it on all the guns they seized. That means, whoever tried to kill Sonny is also behind Olivia Jerome’s murder.

Sonny says, Dex had a lot of potential. More than he’s seen in anyone in a long time. Dex proved his abilities to him, but Dex reminded him, being capable and trustworthy don’t really go hand-in-hand. He wishes he could just let Dex go; forget he ever existed. But he’s too big of a liability. Dex says he understands there’s a risk Sonny’s enemies might use him to get to Sonny, but he was willing to take a bullet rather than give up Carly and Michael. Sonny knows he can hold up under pressure. Sonny says he has kids to consider. Dex said himself that he’ll do anything to protect his family. Dex says, so what now? and Sonny says, the only way he sees it, Dex is going to have to disappear.

Ava says she knows she’s not Josslyn’s favorite person, but Josslyn still went out of her way to get Spinelli and Dex to find her when Mason took her. Josslyn says, of course (🍷). She did that for Avery. Ava says, Josslyn still did it. She owes Josslyn her life for that. So if there’s ever anything she can do for Josslyn, no matter what it is, all she has to do is ask. Josslyn asks if she really means that, and Ava says, absolutely. Josslyn says, then please help her find Sonny, but Ava says she told Josslyn, she doesn’t know where he is. Josslyn says, then call him or get the guards to summon him home. Steering Josslyn toward the door, Ava says, she really thinks it’s best… but Josslyn shakes her off and says, Sonny is going to kill Dex. Ava knows that and she knows that. She needs to speak to him before he does something drastic. She might have helped, but Dex is the one who rescued Ava. Twice. Once at the Quartermaines when Heather Webber attacked her and once in Pautuck. Ava owes him her life twice over. Please help her protect him.

Dex asks if Sonny is going to kill him, but Sonny says he expects Dex to leave town. He’ll have Frank take Dex to one of his safe houses and tell Brick to set him up with a new identity, passport, driver’s license, and then once he’s gone, they’re going to cover up his tracks and set him up with money. Dex says, what about Josslyn? and Sonny says, the way this works, he and Brick are the only ones who have to know what’s going on. They bring Josslyn in, she’s going to drive Sonny’s enemies to Dex. Dex says, they know how to be careful, and Sonny says he knows Josslyn loves Dex. She loves her family too. But if they involve Josslyn, it’s all for nothing. Dex says, then shoot me, putting Sonny’s gun to his stomach. It’s not worth it. Joss made his life worth living. Without her, Sonny might as well finish him off here.

Ava says she would absolutely help if she could, and Josslyn says, but she won’t. So everything Ava just said, if she ever needs anything, that’s all crap. Ava says she meant every word, and she is aware of how unsparing Sonny can be with those who cross him, but Josslyn says, Dex didn’t cross him. Literally the opposite. How many times did Dex almost give Sonny his life and that counts for nothing. Ava says she knows it seems unfair, but Josslyn knows as well as she does that Sonny can’t risk fairness when it comes to his family’s safety. Josslyn says, so Ava is telling her that there’s nothing she can do, and Ava says, yes.

Laura says, Cyrus has a radio show? Who would put him on the air? Cyrus says, someone who sees the value in his message? She says, no, something is deeply off here, and he says, it saddens him that she still doubts his intentions. Fortunately, the Lord provides him strength to continue proving he’s changed. He knows he can never erase the terrible things he’s done, but he can at least counteract them by putting some good out in the world. That’s his purpose. She says, but what is his motive? and he says he can only hope one day she believes the change he’s showing the world and accept the man he’s become. He must take his leave. He goes to the door and says his debut is but fifteen minutes away on KZPC radio. He does hope she’ll tune in. He leaves, and Doc comes back. He says, it’s a miracle that Ace is still down. Then again, maybe he was trying to avoid their company. What did Cyrus want? She says, the same thing he always wants. Her trust.

Sam tells Alexis that she tried to shield Scout and Danny from Jason’s life, and when she realized she couldn’t, she broke up with him. Alexis says, Sam seems to give her kids stability despite all that, and Sam says, what if she wasn’t enough? Danny always wanted more time with his father. Jason was in and out of his life, then all of a sudden, it wasn’t enough. Danny took Jason’s death really hard. And what if in a way to get closer to his father, Danny is starting to take the kinds of chances Jason used to take? And if so, how long has this been building up in him and why hasn’t she seen it before? Alexis says, listen to her. She understands how Sam feels. At some point, every parent does in one way or another. But Sam didn’t cause this. Does she understand that? Sam says, yeah, and Alexis asks if Sam believes her. Sam says she wants to, and Alexis says, whatever Danny is going through, Sam will get him through this because she’s a wonderful mother.

Anna re-bags the gun, and Jordan says, Olivia Jerome’s long history with the mob certainly tracks with their gunman’s pattern, targeting organized crime leaders. Anna hands the gun to Dante and says, absolutely. See if they can confirm that the bullet that killed Jerome matches that gun. Dante says he’ll see if they can put a rush on it, and she says, they need to move fast. As soon as the Feds are apprised of this development, Agent Cates is going to want to take over, and they all know how thrilled he was they didn’t back off in the first place. Jordan says, it’s not like he can be any less cooperative, and Anna agrees and says, it’s common knowledge there won’t be any tears shed over Olivia. But those guards could have been injured or worse, and Curtis already got caught in the crossfire. Agent Cates needs to understand that they need to put a stop to this before any more innocent bystanders are hurt.

Sam thanks Alexis for the encouragement, because she doesn’t feel like a good mom, much less a wonderful mom. Alexis says, you know who thinks they’re wonderful moms? Terrible moms, that’s who. Sam says, so it’s good to doubt, and Alexis says, yeah. It’s like if you think you’re going crazy, the fact that you’ve asked that question means you’re way ahead of the game. Sam says, that’s good to know, and Alexis says, in the meantime, just take it one step at a time. This is just one incident. Sam says she knows, but what if it was just the first? and Alexis says, then she will know. If she sees it escalating, she’ll do something about it. She’ll take care of him just like she always has. And she doesn’t have to do it alone. Sam can count on her. Sam can always count on her. And they will figure it out. Is that a deal? Sam says, it’s a deal. Alexis’s phone rings and she says, it’s one of her reporters. She says, what’s up?… Sam asks if everything is okay.

Jordan says, their best lead is the gun dealer Philip O’Neal. His lawyers want a deal, but the FBI isn’t biting. Anna says, he’s still not talking? and Dante says, this doesn’t make any sense. It’s like this guy has a target on his back. He can ID who he sold the guns to. Anna says, it is concerning, but interestingly, whoever it is who’s after the organized crime figures, waited until Olivia was out of prison before they made their move. Dante says, that just makes him think, whoever this is doesn’t have access to anyone on the inside, and Anna says she thinks she’s going to talk to Agent Cates. She’s going to try and persuade him to keep O’Neal in Pentenville, rather than moving him out of their reach. Dante asks if she thinks they can get something out of O’Neal, and Jordan says, just because he’s not talking to law enforcement, doesn’t mean he won’t talk to anyone.

Josslyn says she should have known better and thanks Ava. This conversation was a big help. Josslyn opens the door, and Ava says she didn’t mean to upset her. Josslyn says she just wants someone to help her. She loves Dex. Does Ava understand? She cannot and will not give up on the people she loves. She won’t do it. She leaves, slamming the door behind her, and Ava takes out her phone.

Sonny says, if he pulls this trigger because Dex asked him to, he won’t be breaking Josslyn’s heart; Dex will. Dex pushes the gun away and says he loves her. He thought it had been beaten out of him. He thought it would never happen for him, but it did. Sonny says, Dex knows the best thing for Josslyn is for him to leave town. Sonny’s enemies are going to be tracking Dex down for the rest of his life. Does Dex want to put her in danger? Does he want her to be the target? Dex says he can’t lose her, and Sonny says, here’s the deal. If Dex wants to keep his life, he’s never going to come back here again. He’s not going to have any contact with anyone again. It’s up to him. Sonny’s phone rings, and he tells Dex that he needs an answer – now.

Jordan says, O’Neal might not talk to them, but he might talk to someone in Pentenville, and Anna says, she means, plant an informant? Jordan says, could work, and Dante says, seems like a long shot. Given this guy’s line of work, you’d think he’d have to be pretty tight lipped, no matter who he’s talking to. Jordan says, exactly. Right now, he’s probably more surprised than they are that he’s still alive. There might be something he wants to get off his chest just in case. Anna says, they’d have to find someone who’s good at extracting that kind of information. And also someone Robert would be willing to offer a deal to. Dante says, a lesser sentence in exchange for some information? That would be pretty good incentive. Jordan says, yes, but no one who poses a significant threat to the general public upon release, and Anna says, on top of finding this person and making a deal with the DA’s office, the informant also has to establish some kind of trust with O’Neal in order to make this work. This is all going to take time. Dante says, it’s time they don’t have, and Anna says, until they think of something faster… Jordan’s phone dings and she says, it’s from Laura. Anna asks, what is it? and Jordan goes over to a very convenient radio, turning it on and finding a station. We hear Cyrus say, this is KZPC radio and welcome to Searching with Cyrus. You’re probably asking, what can I have in common with you…

Laura and Doc are also listening, and Cyrus continues. After all, I’m an ex-convict who was serving hard time in Pentenville, but one thing I learned there is, we are all prisoners. But if we give our burden to the Lord, He will set us free. That’s why I’m here, to help you share that burden and give voice to your troubles, so that you may live a life of peace. Ace starts to cry and Doc says he’ll get Ace. He’s heard enough of this guy. Cyrus says, I’m living proof that God never gives up on any of us, and Doc suggests Laura turn it off, but she says she’s going to listen to every word. She needs to understand what Cyrus is really saying. Doc tells her, good luck with that, and leaves. Cyrus says, if I can find my way to a better place, so can you.

Josslyn runs to Dex’s apartment and sees the door isn’t closed all the way. She pushes it open and sees Sonny sitting there. She says, where’s Dex? and Sonny says he’s sorry. Dex is gone.

On the phone, Alexis says she definitely intends to run it in the morning. She just wants to be able to check it first before it goes to press. She glances at the guard outside Sonny’s penthouse, and says, but she’s going to have to call them back, because there’s something she has to do first.

There’s a knock at the door, and Ava opens it to Alexis. She asks if Alexis is looking for Sonny, but Alexis says, actually, she’s here to see Ava. Ava’s phone rings, and Alexis asks if she needs to get that. Ava says, it’s Pentenville. She’s sure it’s Alexis’s darling nephew, calling collect, but Alexis says she doesn’t think that it is. May she come in? Ava says, please. Is this a social call or are they on the record here? Alexis says she heard it from one of her reporters and she thinks Julian would want Ava to hear it from someone she knows. Ava says, conjuring her late brother’s name can’t be good. Julian would want her to hear what? Alexis says, her sister Olivia is dead, and Ava says, is that so? Alexis says she’s sorry for Ava’s loss, and Ava says, is she really? Because after what she did to Alexis, she thinks Alexis is probably wondering what circle of hell she’s roasting in.

Josslyn says she wants to see him, but Sonny says, that’s not possible. She says, where is he? What did Sonny do to him? He says, Dex is alive, but he’s not coming back to Port Charles, and Josslyn says, he’s a liar. Dex would never leave her. Sonny says, Dex did what he had to do, what was best for everyone, and Josslyn cries, saying, not for her. Sonny says, especially for her. He picks up an envelope and says, Dex wanted him to give her this. He holds it out and she snatches it from him. She takes out a note, a dog tag on a chain falling to the floor. She reads the note and says she hates Sonny. He’s a criminal and a liar and she will never forgive him for this. (When you think about it, it’s really Michael’s fault.) Sonny says he knows, and leaves. Josslyn looks at the note again, picks up the dog tag, and sinks to the floor, crying.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

County Kerry, Ireland. Valentin walks into a dark house and calls for Tiffany. Anna comes up behind him, putting her hand on the back of his neck. She says, hello stranger, and he says, hello darling, and they kiss.

Robert lets Felicia and Laura into his office, and says, they can speak freely. He’s had the place checked for bugs. Laura asks if he does that often, and he says, on the regular. He asks where the wonderful Deputy Mayor thinks Laura is, and Laura says, Ashby thinks she’s meeting with campaign donors, and she sent Ashby to a rezoning meeting, so she’ll be handling questions from Laura’s constituents for hours. They laugh, and Felicia says, in the meantime, don’t hate her, but she told Valentin that Lucy is alive. He’s going to try to find her, so Anna can come home. Robert says, that was a dangerous move to make. However, Valentin looking for Lucy leaves them free to go after Victor, and make him pay for what he did to Luke, Holly, and any other poor bugger who crossed his path.

Spencer says he didn’t expect to see Victor today, and Victor hopes it’s a pleasant surprise. Cyrus says he’ll leave them to their visit, but Victor says, please, do stay. He has some news about his great nephew’s future. He called in some favors, and Spencer is getting out – today.

As they go into the PC Grill, Sam asks if Dante can believe it; both of them getting off in time for happy hour. He says, maybe they broke one of the seals of the Apocalypse, and kisses her in case it’s their last one. They go inside, and Cody is at the bar, half in the bag, toasting to new adventures. Sam tells Dante, he was saying? Dante says, very funny, and they go over to the bar. Cody says, Dante’s here! He wants Dante to meet some of his new friends. The other guys at the bar have disappeared, but Cody says, they’ll be back, and Dante asks if everything is okay. Cody says, not one damn thing – he drains his beer glass – but he’s made a decision. He’s leaving town. He knows what Dante is going to say, but this time he’s serious. There’s nothing keeping him in Port Charles; not anymore.

On the phone, Britt says she’s looking into renting out the Haunted Star for New Year’s Eve… That’s right. She wants to buy it out for the whole night… Not to worry. Money is not a problem… That’s right. Party like there’s no tomorrow. So they don’t already have a boatload of reservations?

Elizabeth asks what Jeff is doing here, and he says he took a chance showing up where she worked since she won’t let him into her house. He came to tell her that he’s leaving in the morning. She asks, why not just go and not say anything? and he says he promises to get out of her hair. Just hear him out one last time. It’s important. She glances at the bottle of prenatal vitamins in her hand.

Nikolas tells Finn that it isn’t a good time, but Finn says he’ll make it quick. It’s about Esme Prince.

Anna puts a blanket on Valentin, and says, it’s still freezing, isn’t it? That’s the downside of 18th century construction. They didn’t think of central heating. He uses the blanket to dry his hair, and she says, he’s here, but distant. He says he’s happy to see her… She says, but… and he says, Felicia told him that Tiffany is helping her, but his coming here was a mistake; it’s too risky. She says, he travels to Europe all the time for business. He has the perfect cover. He says he wanted to see her, but this is dangerous, and she says she thought it was important, especially after Holly’s accident. For God’s sake, what is going on in Port Charles?

Robert says, here’s what we know. Victor coerced Holly into stealing the necklace for him. Laura says, so they can assume this portion of the Ice Princess is somehow crucial to his plan, but to what end? (Victor’s plan is like Sonny’s business – no one quite knows what it is.) She’s spent some time online, and it’s amazing. Diamonds are used for so many things; lasers, monitoring cancer, artificial visual technologies, specialized audio… It could be anything. Felicia says she can think of one way to narrow it down, and takes something out of her bag. Laura asks if she always carries a jeweler’s loop, or is this a special occasion? Felicia says, maybe there’s some detail in the pieces of the diamond that none of them has discovered… yet.

Spencer asks if he’s really going home today, and Victor says, they’re processing his release as they speak. Spencer asks, how? and Victor says he revisited a few old connections, and told them how Esme had been threatening Spencer’s loved ones. He persuaded them that it would be best for Spencer to spend time with his family during these troubling times. Spencer says he can’t believe Victor went through all this trouble for him, and Cyrus says, indeed, Victor’s efforts on young Spencer’s behalf are uncharacteristically generous. Who so boasts himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. Victor says, then call him rainmaker. He’s afraid it’s not an unconditional release. There are certain restrictions. Spencer says he can live with anything if he’s not behind bars, and Victor says he knows they had their differences the last time he visited, so please, consider this his attempt to make almonds amends. He hopes it proves, once and for all, that he really does have Spencer’s best interest at heart… no matter what others want Spencer to believe. Now let’s get him out of this wretched place.

Dante asks why Cody’s leaving town. What about his inheritance? What about Britt? Cody laughs, and Dante asks what he did. Cody says, why does Dante assume it’s his fault? Dante asks if Cody is saying it wasn’t him. He guesses there is a first time for everything. Cody says, he wants the truth? Britt was being ridiculous and unreasonable. Dante says, about what? and Cody tells him, Britt said she was miserable about something she inherited; something her father gave her. So he said, you don’t want it? Give it to me. You don’t want, I do. Win-win. He thought she was talking about the necklace, but his mistake. Dante asks what she was talking about, but Cody says he doesn’t know. Something is going on with Britt. Whatever she’s dealing with is heavy. But whatever. The necklace is gone, Britt’s gone – he looks at his glass – this beer’s gone. Dante says he’ll get Cody something, and Cody yells, bartender, next round’s on this guy! as Dante gets up. Dante says, no, a coffee is. Cody tells Sam, go ahead. He’s sure she has something to say. She tells him, just one thing. Him getting out of Port Charles for good sounds like a helluva idea to her.

Jeff tells Elizabeth that he wouldn’t have come here if it wasn’t important. Please just hear him out. She says, nothing’s changed. She can’t imagine what’s left to say. Terry asks if everything is okay here, and Jeff says, it’s nice to see her again. It seems like she’s always running interference for his daughter. Terry starts to respond, but Jeff interrupts, saying, he’s just glad to see someone is looking out for his daughter. He tells Elizabeth, please, just a few minutes. Then he’ll be out of his life forever if that’s what she wants.

Nikolas lets Finn inside, and says, what about Esme? Has she been spotted? Finn says, no, that’s part of the problem, and Nikolas says he’d think everyone would be happy to never lay eyes on Esme again. Finn says, she’s the one who’s been terrorizing Port Charles. Her victims would like to see her locked up, including Elizabeth. Nikolas says, of course (🍷). He didn’t mean to sound callous, but it seems like the attacks have stopped as of late. Maybe Esme’s altercation with Elizabeth scared her out of town, and she’s packing up her hook for good. Finn says he thinks she’s still in town, and has the feeling she’s closer than Nikolas thinks. Nikolas says, if Esme were still in town, surely the PCPD would have found her by now, and Finn says, she’s pretty good at flying under the radar, right? And don’t call me Shirley. Nikolas says, Finn has a point, but he doesn’t see how he fits in, and Finn says, what if Esme is on Spoon Island?

Spencer thanks Cyrus for looking out for him, and Cyrus says, Spencer is his family. He’ll always look out for him. Spencer says, it might be hard from in here, and Cyrus says, God is always watching. And if Spencer feels so compelled, come visit. Or if Spencer would rather not see the inside of these walls again, by all means, write to him. They shake hands, and Cyrus tells Spencer, please let him know if he decides to give half his gift to the one who has his heart. Victor says, yes, yes, very nice, but the guard has been more than patient. It’s time to go. He’ll see Spencer on the other side. Spencer thanks Cyrus and Victor again, and says, without the two of them, who knows what might have happened? He leaves with the guard, and Cyrus tells Victor, lovely to see him again. Victor says, did he or did he not warn Cyrus to stay away from his nephew? and Cyrus says, our nephew.

Cody says, Sam doesn’t like him much, does she? and she asks, what gave that away? She’s not Britt’s biggest fan, but Cody did trick her into a relationship to find that necklace. He says, that necklace was his birthright. At least until it went up in flames. She says she doesn’t know about that. Given the records she found on him, she doesn’t think it was a late in life decision to start doing shady things. He asks what that’s supposed to mean, and she says, forget it. He tells her, if she has something to say… but she says, Forget. It. Dante returns, saying, one coffee for you, putting the cup in front of Cody. Sam’s phone dings, and she steps away to make a call.

Elizabeth tells Jeff, Terry was kind enough to let them use her office, so let’s return the favor and keep this brief. He thanks her for this chance, and says he fully intended to respect her boundaries, but since he’s leaving… She says, he didn’t have to keep his word? but he says, no. He came here today because he saw himself for the first time, and didn’t like what he saw. She asks, what brought on this revelation? and he says he went to see Heather Webber this morning. He heard she had a run-in with his grandson. He needed to make sure she wasn’t a danger to anyone in their family, but talking to Heather made him face some things about himself; things he’s not proud of. She says she’s listening, and he says, instead of acknowledging his shortfalls, and taking responsibility for them and making almonds amends, he runs away. He lies to and deceives the people who care about him, and denies any wrongdoing; he makes them think it’s all in their head. She says, so when he told her that he brainwashed her for her own good, what he really meant was, it was for his own good. He says, he and her mother truly did what they thought was best to protect her, but there’s no denying that be sending her away, he was running again. Now he sees he was wrong, and he’s sorry.

Nikolas asks Finn, why in the world would Esme be here? She knows she has no friends here. Finn says, she attacked Elizabeth on the pier when Elizabeth was on her way to see Nikolas. That got him thinking, maybe Esme is hiding out somewhere secluded. She used to live here, and knows the ins and outs of this place. Nikolas says, he has a full staff here, including security. He would at least know if Esme was in his house. Finn says, right, but there’s plenty of places outside she could hide. Did he search the entire property? Nikolas says, if Esme was here, he would know about it, and Finn says, maybe he needs to look again. Nikolas asks when Finn was deputized. The PCPD hasn’t even been here since Esme became a person of interest in the hook attacks. Finn says, all he’s asking is, is it possible Esme could be here without Nikolas knowing it? He’s concerned about Elizabeth’s safety. He just wants to get to the bottom of this. Nikolas asks if there’s still tension going on between Finn and Elizabeth. Is that why Finn is feeling such a keen desire to play the hero? Finn says, this has nothing to do with being a hero. This was a mistake. He thought he’d give Nikolas the courtesy of coming to see him in good faith, but Nikolas doesn’t deserve it. Finn opens the door, and says, the cops could search this place better than he could anyway. Nikolas says he’s sorry, and Finn stops, turning around. Nikolas says he cares about Elizabeth too, and wants to see the attacker caught. He’ll talk to his staff. Wait here. Finn goes back inside, and sees the empty vitamin bottle as I knew he would.

Elizabeth tells Jeff, she honestly doesn’t know how to feel right now. Part of her has waited a lifetime for him to admit what he and her mom did was wrong. It was such a betrayal. He says he understands that now, and she says, all the times he claimed her was protecting her, he was really just protecting himself from being held accountable. He says he didn’t see that at the time, but now he realizes he was trying to have it both ways, He convinced himself that he was saving her life, but he was also saving himself from taking responsibility for having an affair, and Elizabeth’s emotional trauma at seeing him with another woman, and everything that followed. He missed years of her life. Not just the dark painful times when she needed her family the most, but also the good times, when she could have felt how much he and her mother truly love her. Instead, he convinced Carolyn that the best way to save Elizabeth and preserve their family was by sending her away. He didn’t give Elizabeth an explanation, but allowed that distance to grow. He failed at his responsibilities as a father, and he was wrong. He wishes he could take it back. She says, but he can’t. Nothing he says or does will ever take away the damage he did to her.

Britt sees Terry, and says, hey, Co-Chief. Terry says, someone is downright friendly today, and Britt says she’s planning her birthday party. What are Terry and Yuri doing New Year’s Eve? Terry says she had no idea Britt’s birthday was coming up. Does this mean she wasn’t invited last year? Britt says she never makes a big deal about her birthday; she’s never even had a party. But this year, she decided to do it up. There’s going to be a photobooth, and dancing, and an open bar. Hell, she’s even thinking of renting a red carpet. It’s going to be the party of the century. Terry says she’s there, and thanks Britt for inviting her. Britt says she can’t imagine celebrating without Terry. She knows they were at each other’s throats when they started out as Co-Chief, but now the idea of this without her… it’s not as appealing as it once was. Terry says, against all odds, they make a great team, and Britt says, it seems that Monica was right all along. Terry says she’s glad they stuck it out for the long haul, and asks Britt where this is coming from.

Cody asks if Dante believes in karma, and Dante says, does he? Cody says, for a second there, it looked like everything was going great for him. He thought, this is it; it’s finally his time to get everything he wants; an inheritance, Britt. He was really happy with it too. Then it all went to hell overnight. Dante says, and he thinks it was karma? and Cody says, probably. Dante says, tell him this then. What could Cody have possibly done to deserve all that?

Victor says, make no mistake. He and Cyrus may share a family, but they’re not family. Cyrus says, family or no, he serves a higher power, and Victor says, then he’d be familiar with the tale of the fruit from the poisonous tree. Cyrus says, the legal concept kept him out of prison for decades. As for the parable, what does that have to do with anything? Victor says he won’t allow Cyrus’s venomous lies to corrupt his nephew, and Cyrus asks what lies he’s referring to. As far as he knows, he’s uttered no falsehoods against Victor. Victor says, that’s exactly his point; Cyrus doesn’t know anything. So it’s best not speak on such matters unless he does. Cyrus says, one of them is clearly false, and they both know it’s not him. The getting of treasures by a lying tongue, is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. Victor asks if that’s Cyrus’s way of threatening him, but Cyrus says, it’s not for him to assign punishment. That’s in God’s hands. Victor says, fortunately, since he’s arranged for Spencer’s release, Cyrus’s influence on his nephew comes to an end. And he sincerely hopes Spencer never lays eyes on Cyrus again. But if he does, even Cyrus’s God won’t be able to save him.

Felicia looks at the necklace through the loop, and says, there’s a series of numbers and letters on this diamond. Laura says, that’s probably just a serial number; all diamonds have them these days. Felicia says, she’s never seen a serial number look like this. She asks to use Robert’s computer, and sits in his chair. She puts the number in at the diamond registry, and says, if it’s a serial number, it’s not coming up. Laura says, if it’s not a serial number, is it possible it’s some kind of a code? and Robert says, or something a whole lot more dangerous.

Valentin and Anna cuddle on the couch, and she says, thank God Lucy is alive. He tells her, says Felicia’s reputable source, and Anna wonders why Victor didn’t kill her. She’s glad obviously, but what does he have to gain by keeping her alive? He says, leverage, just as he was using Charlotte as leverage over him. She says, he has to explain this to her. His father is a man of significant means. All of this for the Ice Princess? Not even the whole diamond; it’s a fragment of a cursed gemstone. It doesn’t make any sense. He says he doesn’t know Victor’s endgame; he wishes he did. She says, at least they have Lucy, and he says, if she’s alive, he’s going to find her. Anna asks how he’s going to do that, and he says, Charlotte is safe with Laura. He’s going to search some of Victor’s old haunts. Maybe he won’t be lucky enough to find Lucy, but hopefully, he’ll find some trace of where Victor’s taken her. She says, that’s as good a plan as any, and he says he’s going to find Lucy, clear Anna’s name, and bring Anna back home safe. She kisses him, and says, he’s not going to do that. He can’t go be a hero all by himself. Does she strike him as a damsel in distress, trapped in a tower? Okay, basically she is trapped in an 18th century manor, but she doesn’t need a knight to save her, even one as gorgeous as him. He asks if she thinks he doesn’t know how capable she is, and she says, let’s ditch the white horse then. He says, she’s too much of a target. He won’t let her get caught. She says, the only other people who know she’s here are Tiffany and Annie. She hasn’t been laying low. She’s been doing her research; looking for leads. And he’s given her the most actionable piece of information. She at least knows where to start now. He says, she can’t do it by herself, and she says, Neither can he. They could do it together, as a team. He kisses her

Cody tells Dante, all the wrong things are important to him. Now he’s greedy, selfish, greedy… Dante says, there’s nothing wrong with Cody wanting that necklace, and Cody says, except he tore the ticket with his family. Probably the only good thing about him being Leopold Taub’s son was he had some money coming to him. Now he doesn’t have a family, and he doesn’t have an inheritance. Dante says, Cody’s got him and his little brother, and Cody says, Dante’s playing the Leo card. Dante says he is. He can’t leave town until Leo wins some kind of riding trophy or medal. Cody says, Dante and Leo might be the only people who would miss him, and it might not be great for Dante if he stayed. Dante asks, why not? and Cody says, Dante might not have given him a second thought if he hadn’t crash landed into Britt, but their friendship meant a lot to him when they were kids. Dante says, same here, and Cody says, they both know there’s a world of hurt coming for them if anyone finds out what happened back then.

Nikolas tells Finn that he talked to the staff, and no one’s seen anything suspicious. He’s instructed everyone to tell him anything that happens, no matter how small. They’re going to keep detailed logs about the comings and goings here, and he’s made sure guards are posted at every access point on and off the island. Finn thanks Nikolas for checking, and Nikolas says, if he hears anything, he’ll let Finn know. He absolutely has Elizabeth’s best interests at heart. Finn says, given their history, he’d like to believe that, but he doesn’t. Finn leaves, and Nikolas realizes the empty vitamin bottle is there.

Elizabeth says she’s glad Jeff had his moment of realization. She hopes it helps him heal, but it won’t help her at all. Because while he was shielding himself from taking responsibility for his actions, he was keeping her from doing the same thing. He says he knows. He told himself that he was saving her life, but he shifted the burden from himself to her. He left her with those feelings of abandonment she’s had to live with her whole life, but he’s taking ownership now. He’s willing to take on his share of the burden. She says, it’s too late. He forced her to start life without him. She’s been through traumas, violations, weddings, funerals, births; he wasn’t there for any of it. She’s a parent now, and knows how hard it is to see your child in pain. He took away her opportunity to heal from one horrible moment in her life. He left her with no family. He left her untethered to this world, and left room for a tragic mistake to come back 25 years later. She wants to lash out at the world. She wants to punish people like the teenager who came to Port Charles years ago. Instead, she had to deal with those memories and face her actions. Now that’s her burden that he can’t take away. She has to live with the choices she’s made, and he’s going to have to live with his too. He tells her, there’s really nothing left to say, except that he and her mother thought they were doing what was best for her and their family. Obviously, they were wrong and he’s sorry. They love her, Sarah, and her boys very much, but they understand the mistakes they made caused her great pain. He hopes she can find it in her heart to forgive him, and let him in just a little. Nothing would make him happier, but he’ll give her the space she needs. If she ever feels like reaching out, he promises they’ll be there. He’s going to head home now. He doesn’t know if it’s going to be another 25 years before he sees her again, but he hopes it isn’t. He leaves, but she keeps her back turned to him.

Britt tells Terry, nothing’s wrong; she’s just distracted. She’s never thrown a bash like this before, and she can’t stop going over the details in her head. Terry says, she could try to think about work at some point, and sees Finn walking past. She runs over to him, and asks if he’s spoken to Elizabeth. He says, they still have a lot to work out, and she says she’s sorry things are still tense. He says, him too. He keeps hoping they can work through this. Jeff comes out of the elevator, and tells Terry goodbye. She just folds her arms and looks at him, and he leaves. Finn wonders if that’s why she was asking about Elizabeth. Terry says, Elizabeth just went to speak with him in her office, and Finn jets.

Nikolas picks up the empty bottle, and flashes back to Esme saying she already planted a seed with Elizabeth. She bets Elizabeth is too dedicated of a nurse to let him get away with attempted murder. When things start to unravel, and the police get involved, he’s going down, and taking Ava with him, and maybe even Nurse Nightingale too. He hears Victor outside the door, and ditches the bottle. Victor walks in with Spencer.

Dante says, the past is the past. Why does Cody want to bring it up? Cody says, Sam found his juvie arrest record, and Dante says, she told him at Thanksgiving. Cody says, summer, 1996, and Dante says, those records are sealed. He didn’t give her any specifics; he’s trying to downplay the whole thing. Cody says he can tell, and Dante asks, what’s that supposed to mean? Cody says, come on, man. It’s been the elephant in the room since he came to town. Dante says, that was a long time ago, and Cody says, they both know the world of trouble that could come if Sam unseals that record. Not just for him, but for both of them.

Laura says, the Ice Princess Mikkos had 40 years ago was the largest uncut diamond in the world, but she does remember something about there being a formula in the base. Robert says he wouldn’t count out the fact that there could be other codes engraved in other parts of the diamond as well. Felicia asks, what kind of codes? when there’s a knock at the door. Robert shoves the necklace away, and says, come in. An officer hands him a folder, saying, here’s the file he requested, and thanks Felicia for the Thanksgiving dinner for the guys working on the holiday. She says, her pleasure. She guesses she’d better get going, and tells Robert, they’ll catch up later. In the hallway, she tells the officer that she needs to catch up with her husband, and asks if he’s seen Mac. The officer says, he’s at an all-hands-on-deck meeting, and she says, anything exciting? and he says, she didn’t hear it from him, but Agent Whitten has a lead on Anna Devane’s whereabouts.

Laura says she’ll never forget the horror the Ice Princess brought to Port Charles the first time, and Robert says, it’s possible Victor’s not after the diamonds themselves, but rather the message hidden inside them.

Valentin says he hopes Anna knows that he just wants to protect her, and she says she does. She thanks him, and says, how about if they make a deal? From here on out, they protect each other. He nods, and kisses her. His phone rings, and he says, it’s Felicia. He says, hello…. Understood. Thank you. He tells Anna that Felicia got wind from the PCPD, Agent Whitten has a lead on where Anna is. He’s headed to Europe. She asks, what kind of lead? but he tells her, she didn’t say. This must be his doing. Interpol will figure out she’s in Ireland. She says, with Tiffany, and he says, they’ve got to go, now.

Spencer thanks Victor, and Nikolas thanks him for helping his son. Victor says, it’s the least he can do, and Nikolas says, being Spencer was only in Pentenville because he wouldn’t tell the authorities Victor arranged for his escape from Spring Ridge. Victor says, because Spencer is family, and family is very precious. In the meantime, Spencer is only out on a conditional release. Nikolas asks, what might those conditions be? and Spencer says he’s to remain under supervision for the remainder of his sentence. Which means, one false move and he’ll go back to Pentenville. Victor says, isn’t it wonderful? They’ll all be together for the holidays under the same roof.

Elizabeth picks up the bottle of vitamins, when Finn walks in. He asks if she’s okay, she says, no, and he holds her.

Britt asks Terry if everything is okay with Finn. He seemed even doomier and gloomier than usual. Terry tells Britt, it’s not her place to say, and Britt says, oh, it’s about Elizabeth. Okay, she’ll let it go, as long as whatever’s going on doesn’t affect the hospital. Terry says, she promises to loop Britt in if it does. After all, they’re Co-Chiefs. Britt says, for the record, she thinks Terry would make a great Chief if they ever let her fly solo, and Terry says, obviously, but she doesn’t think it would be half as much fun. Britt says, only because Terry hasn’t done it any other way, and Terry asks, what’s with her? Is Britt quitting on her? Britt says, nothing lasts forever, and walks off.

Dante says, Cody’s Ride Share is here, and Sam says, he’s leaving. Cody says, Dante didn’t have to get him a car, but Dante says, they look out for each other; it’s what they do. Cody says, thanks. Dante is a good friend. He leaves, and Sam asks if he’s going to be okay. Dante says, he’s just going through a rough time. Try not to make it worse. Sam says, worse how? and Dante says, bringing up things like his juvie arrest record. He doesn’t think that helps. Dredging up that kind of stuff isn’t going to get him on the right path. Maybe they can just let all that go.

Robert asks Laura, what if Victor never wanted the diamonds for their own sake? What if what he wants is a code hidden inside those diamonds? She says, then they need to crack that code first, and he says, the sooner they crack that code, the sooner they uncover what Victor’s real intentions are. She says, and we’re one step closer to stopping Victor before his plan unfolds.

Valentin and Anna are ready to leave. Valentin opens the door, and stops short. He says, you.  

Tomorrow, Rory asks Trina to go somewhere with him; Nikolas says he’s afraid Spencer can’t stay here; Valentin asks how someone found them; and Sonny says he’d appreciate it if someone would talk to him first.

They didn’t have tonight’s recap yet, but it continues to boggle my mind how no one thinks anything of physically attacking another person. It used to just be RHONJ, but it’s spreading everywhere in reality TV. I’ll say it again, Andy isn’t going to be happy until there’s a lawsuit. The first season of Salt Lake had promise, but it’s quickly deteriorated.

General Hospital

Brook backs into an examining room with Bailey in her stroller. Chase is there in his briefs, and she says, sorry to interrupt. TJ said he’d be in here, and it’s really important. She turns around, and says, oh, hi.

Esme asks if Spencer heard what Josslyn just called her. Trina’s a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, and somehow that makes her a manipulative bitch? Josslyn asks if she wasn’t clear. Esme’s always been a bitch from the moment she got into town. Playing that stupid drinking game is just her stupid way of proving it. Cameron thinks it’s settled; the bar is closed for tonight. No more alcohol for any of them. Josslyn says she’s not going to let Esme blame alcohol for what happened tonight. She’s jealous of Spencer’s friendship with Trina, so Esme deliberately set out to humiliate her by dredging up the past. Trina ran out of here in tears, but she’s guessing that’s exactly what Esme wanted. Esme says, really? Josslyn thinks it was her goal to hurt Trina? Josslyn says, hurt her, embarrass her, one or the other. Josslyn looks at Spencer, and says, and what about him? Can he finally see Esme for who she really is?

Stella meets Curtis at Charlie’s, and he says she looks fantastic. She thanks him, and sits down. He says, her time at the wellness center agreed with her, and she says she can’t thank him enough for arranging that. She feels better than ever. Catch her up on everything. She doesn’t need to hear about him and Portia; she can tell by the look on his face. He says, that obvious, huh? and she says she’s happy for both of them. TJ’s been texting her about the latest doings at GH, but there’s at least one empty space in her family album. How are things going with him and Marshall? He says, improving. Kind of. But at least he’s not in the dark anymore. Marshall told him everything. She says, he did what?

Marshall (temporary Marshall – see below) walks into Kelly’s, and puts a little plant on the table Epiphany is sitting at. He says, he was told he could find her here, and sits down. She asks, what’s up with the plant? and he says it’s to thank her for looking out for him after he spoiled their date. She says, he didn’t spoil anything. He had a health crisis. She’s just glad it wasn’t anything serious. He says, it was his serious chance to get to know her better. He just hopes he gets another crack at it.

Martin sees Laura at the Bistro, and she says thanks for meeting her. He sits down, and says he’s just sorry he missed Luke’s memorial. He never met the man, but he wanted to be there to support her. You know what they say about the life of an attorney; it’s either feast or famine. She says, right now, as she understands it, he’s feasting on Peter August’s retainer, and he asks, who told her? She says she’s the mayor, remember? The DA is a good friend of hers. Does he have any idea what he’s in for?

Peter pulls at his handcuffs, and flashes back to talking to Victor saying, Brook and Maxie conspired to pass off Louise as Brook and Valentin’s child, so Peter would be convinced his child had been kidnapped and disappeared into thin air. Dante comes in, and Peter asks if it’s an official visit, or is Dante just dropping by as a concerned friend? Dante laughs, and says, he’s there to tell Peter that he’s now being transferred to Pentenville tomorrow. They want to do some more tests; make sure they dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s. Peter says, they already cleared him to go, and Dante asks, what’s a few more hours? Does he have someplace to be? Peter laughs.

Valentin shows the reception nurse his driver’s license, and says, she can check Bailey’s file and see he’s her father. The nurse leaves, and Victor says he couldn’t help but overhear. What does Valentin want with Bailey’s medical records? She’s not his daughter. Valentin says, legally, she still is. For whatever reason, Brook hasn’t updated Bailey’s birth certificate or medical records. Victor says, makes you wonder, doesn’t it? and Valentin says, wonder what? Victor says, whether Brook is hiding something.

Chase puts on his pants, and asks if Brook ever knocks. She says she’s sorry. When the nurse said he was in this room, she didn’t mention he’d be doing a strip routine. He says, that tends to happen when you’re having a physical, and she asks if he’s all right. Did he have a setback? He says, no. His blood pressure’s stabilized, and he passed with flying colors. She says, good, and he says, which is ironic. If he wasn’t suspended, he’d be cleared from desk duty and back out in the field. But the upside of being suspended is, he gets more time with Bailey. He tells Bailey that she’s the best little workout buddy. He’s never run so many miles so fast. Brook says it’s too bad Chase is her father in name only. Bailey could get used to having him around.

Esme tells Spencer to say something, and he asks, how’s Trina? Is she okay? Josslyn says, no, she’s not okay. He saw her; she ran out of the room in tears. She won’t even come out of the room. Josslyn had to talk to her through the door. Cameron says, the alcohol hit her hard, but Josslyn says, the problem was not what was in the mug. Cameron says he’s never seen Trina drink before, and he thought that might have been it. Josslyn says, the problem was Esme implying Trina had feelings for Cameron, but Cameron says, it doesn’t make sense. It’s ancient history. Why would it bother her now? Esme says, maybe it never stopped bothering Trina, or she didn’t want to bother them with it. Or maybe Trina’s just a drama queen. They had plenty of those at boarding school. Spencer says he doesn’t think Trina’s a drama queen. He thinks she’s legitimately upset. Esme says, Josslyn and Cameron must be thrilled. Now they’ve even got Spence doubting her. All roads lead to Trina. Trina has Spencer wrapped around her little finger, and he doesn’t even see it. She stomps off, and Josslyn asks if Spencer heard her; how she’s trying to make this Trina’s fault. What is wrong with him? Trina is his friend. She’s given him chance after chance. Why can’t he call Esme out for the snake she is?

Stella asks Curtis, when he said Marshall told him everything, what exactly did he mean? Curtis tells her, he said he got mixed up with some shady characters, and he was afraid they were going to use his family as a bargaining chip to keep him in line. So Marshall decided, in order to keep his wife and kids safe, he would disappear and make everyone think he was dead. She sighs, and he asks if she’s okay. He knows it comes as a shock. She says, he has no idea, and he tells her, Marshall didn’t say it in so many words, but his father was in the Witness Protection Program. She says, he believes that? and he asks if she’s saying he shouldn’t.

Epiphany says, Marshall needs to keep taking those new pills the doctor prescribed, and focus on lowering his blood pressure, and she needs to get back to work and finish her shift. He says, the medication is working already; he can feel it. But why does she sound like the one with a problem? She says, no problem. The doctor that wrote him the prescription reminded her of something. That there are some dreams, no matter how sweet, that deserve to die.

Peter tells Dante, the only place he’s going is the courtroom, and the sooner, the better. His attorney is going to get all these charges dismissed, and he can move on with his life. Dante says, the only life Peter is going to have is inside a prison. The question is, is it going to be in Pentenville or Steinmaur? Peter tells Dante, he’s going to beat these charges. Then he’s going to do what everyone, including the PCPD, failed to do. Find his daughter. Dante asks, what makes him think he’s going to find Louise when no one else has? Peter says he has some resources that have yet to be tapped into, and Dante says, like what? Peter says, he could tell Dante, but then he’d have to kill him, and Dante asks if he’s threatening a police officer. Peter asks if Dante is trying to entrap an innocent man. Come on. Don’t they have some tests to run to initiate his transfer? Or is Dante going to risk getting charged with police brutality by compromising Peter’s mortality?

Valentin asks, what makes Victor think Brook is hiding something? and Victor says he’s not the one looking into Bailey’s medical records. Think about it. He starts to leave, but Valentin says, hang on. If he tells Victor something, can he trust him?

Spencer asks what Josslyn wants him to say. Esme’s his girlfriend. Back in boarding school, when he thought his father was dead, she stood by him. When they came to Port Charles, she repeatedly had his back. She thought she was going to be living at Windymere, and when he told her that he’d decided they were living at his grandmother’s house, she didn’t complain at all. Josslyn and Trina made it well-known that they don’t like Esme. She hasn’t felt accepted by any of his friends. Josslyn says she knows that Esme has some kind of hold over Spencer, but he’s got to wake up and see all the hurt she’s done. When she’s not burning down a car, she’s burning down his friendship with Trina. He asks what Cameron thinks. Cameron has always tried to mediate, and see Esme’s perspective. Cameron says he can’t believe Spencer has to ask him that. Cameron saw how Esme treated Trina. The question is, did Spencer?

Esme goes into the master bedroom, and says, perfect.

Stella tells Curtis that she’s not saying he should doubt Marshall’s story. It just really surprises her. He says he’s sorry if it upsets her, but at least now they know why Marshall felt the need to disappear. But when he tries to find out more, like who those guys were and if they’re still a threat, Marshall tells him to back off. It’s funny to him, since he was the one who wanted no part of Marshall. Now Marshall is telling him to lay off. She tells him, maybe he should do as Marshall says, and set aside his interrogation for a while. He says, wait a minute. She’s his Bible scripture quoting auntie, who’s always reminding him that the truth shall set you free. So where is it written that Marshall gets a pass?

Marshall tells Epiphany, dreams don’t die, unless you give up on them. He doesn’t know her well, but she doesn’t strike him as a quitter. She says, that’s the thing. She thought she knew what kind of treatment he needed, but that wasn’t her place. He says, her place was to speak her mind, and he’s grateful she did. She thanks him, but says, it’s the last time she’s going to tell a doctor what to do. He says, even if the doctor is wrong? but she says, that’s the thing; Dr. Rose wasn’t wrong. Marshall just needed to adjust his blood pressure medication, right?

Martin tells Laura, every defendant is entitled to legal counsel. It’s right there in the Constitution, and Peter August is no exception. She asks if he’s saying he took the case in the spirit of justice under the law, and he asks, why shouldn’t he? His little sister isn’t the only person who cares about the public good. She says, how noble of him. And does doing the public good come along with a big, fat check made out to Martin Grey, Esquire?

Victor says he’s Valentin’s father. Of course (🍷) Valentin can trust him. Valentin says, but he’s a one-time ally to Peter August, and Peter says, it was strictly a business arrangement that terminated on the Island of Crete, when Peter crossed the line. Doesn’t he remember? It was the first time he and Valentin teamed up together. And when he got back to the states, he provided information to help track Peter down. What does he have to prove? Whatever’s troubling Valentin, he shouldn’t carry this burden alone. It’s too bad lovely Anna isn’t here by his side. And why this interest in medical records of a child that’s not even his, and what has it got to do with Peter?

Chase says, he could get used being around… Bailey, and Brook says, he missed a button. She fixes it for him, and says she hopes he gets to be a real father someday. He’s got the touch. He says, so does she. She didn’t tell him why she was looking for him. Did she hear from Maxie? She says, no. She’s been sitting on pins and needles. What if being in Pawtuck somehow jars Austin’s memory, and he remembers Maxie handing Louise off to her? He says, Maxie knows what’s at stake; keeping her precious little girl away from Peter. Come on; let’s go home. They leave, as Peter is being wheeled around the corner. Peter looks at Bailey, and I wonder, did Peter get a perm???  Peter says, what a beautiful baby, and Brook says, they think so. Chase says he’s one proud dad, and Peter says he’s sure Chase is. Chase asks Dante what Peter is doing here, and Dante says, a final bit of clearance before Pentenville. Peter says, he never saw the resemblance before, but now he gets it. Bailey looks just like her mother. Chase says, get him out of here, and Dante says, sure thing, and they wheel Peter into the elevator. He stares at Bailey until the last possible second, and then gives a creepy smile.

Martin tells Laura, they were in hiding for months. He couldn’t work. It’s not like he doesn’t have expenses; his mother’s around the clock care for one thing. Then there’s the herd of ex-wives, none of whom will ever get married, because they’re having way too much fun playing the alimony mambo. Of course (🍷) there’s his private wine collection. It should be a tax deduction, since he only has it to impress his clients, but try telling that to the IRS. She asks if he’s going to tell them about the expenses of courting Lucy, and he says, no, and neither is she, especially when Valentin is around. He’s got this thing about conflict of interest. She says, as the mayor, and defender of their Constitution, she wholeheartedly believes in Peter’s right to competent legal counsel, but as his sister, does it have to be him? Peter has hurt so many people; Maxie and her baby. He says, about that. She doesn’t think Peter will ever get his hands on that little baby girl, does she? Nobody’s known about her whereabouts for months. She says, that’s her point. The only way Peter will get his hands on that little girl is if someone as smart as Martin finds a way to exonerate him. Martin says, fine. Laura is going to make a play for the cheap seats.

Valentin tells Victor that Brook used Bailey to help the Quartermaine family regain control of ELQ. He would say, turnabout is fair play, wouldn’t Victor? Victor says, so Valentin is hoping to find something in the medical records he can use to his advantage. Like what for instance? Valentin doesn’t know; he’s fishing. He’s throwing a line in the water and seeing if anything bites. Victor tells him, happy fishing. He hopes Valentin catches something. The nurse comes back with Bailey’s folder, and asks if there’s something in particular Valentin is looking for in Bailey’s records.

Marshall tells Epiphany, changing medications isn’t going to heal the family he abandoned. She says, but he came back. He’s here now, and the longer he lives, the better chance he stands of making his family whole again. He says he’d rather talk about her dream of becoming a doctor, and she says, while she appreciates his interest, she thinks he should save some of his concern for that family of his.

Stella says she’s not giving Marshall a pass. She’s just asking why Curtis can’t accept his father’s version of events, and move on. Or is he using this as an excuse to keep from letting his father into his life? He says, Marshall’s already got one foot in the door. This is about his family’s safety; him, her, and TJ. What if the trouble that caused him to leave all those decades ago is still out there? If he opens that door just a little more, and trouble follows Marshall in, doesn’t she think he deserves to know what to expect? Or is none of this news to her? Does she know something he doesn’t?

Esme comes out with her coat, and says she’s leaving, but Spencer suggests taking a minute to cool off. She says she’s not spending another minute with small-minded people who have never, and will never, accept her for who she is. Josslyn says, the problem is, they know who she is. That’s why they don’t accept her. Esme asks if Spencer is coming or not, and he says, they all had those hot toddies, and with icy conditions, he doesn’t think it’s safe for either of them to drive right now. She says she ordered a car, but it seems he’s made his choice. He’s choosing them over her. Spencer says he’ll go with her, but first, he’s going to check on Trina. Then he’ll get their bags, and he’ll meet her outside. Esme says, Trina’s asleep, and they can send for their things; let’s go. Spencer says, sorry, guys, and follows her out. Cameron says, so much for their weekend getaway. He’s so sorry this all blew up. Josslyn says she’s not. She can’t stand Esme, and she’s thrilled that she doesn’t have to pretend otherwise. She feels horrible for Trina, but remember when they got drunk on the Haunted Star? The only cure is to sleep it off, so she guesses for now, it’s just the two of them.

Outside, Cameron tells Josslyn, the stars are very beautiful tonight; very close. Josslyn says, the more she thinks about it, this whole getaway was Esme’s idea. He says, so? and she asks if he thinks this was Esme’s plan all along; to embarrass them, and humiliate Trina? He says he hopes not. The funny thing is, he always thought Esme was so sure of herself, but after tonight, he realizes how insecure and terrified she is of losing Spencer. She says, here’s hoping by the time they’re down from the mountain, Spencer realizes Esme was trying to hurt his friends, and he dumps her. Cameron says he’s tired talking of talking about Esme, and Spencer. He thinks they should stop talking altogether. They kiss, and she nods, and they go inside. 

Stella tells Curtis, honestly, until this moment, she never suspected Marshall was mixed up in dirty business. He says he’s not trying to upset her, but now that she knows, does it ring any bells? Can she think back 40 years ago, and remember any names or faces that might have been mixed up with Marshall? She says she wasn’t even there, and Irene is no longer with them. All the more reason to consider what Marshall is saying, and leave things alone.

Marshall says, things are good with TJ, and getting better with Curtis, but Epiphany says, that’s not what he said when they went out to dinner. He says, while Curtis owns a nightclub, he still thinks like a P.I.; he questions everything. But he’s sure in time, Curtis will come around. She says, remember what she told him about her son? and he says, yeah, that they don’t always have as much time as they think they do. But doesn’t that apply to her as well, with her dream of becoming a doctor?

Brook asks if Chase saw the way Peter was smiling at Bailey. It’s almost as if he knows the truth. He tells her, Peter said she looks just like her mother; he meant her. She says, did he? What If he suspects the truth? What if he was saying Bailey looks like Maxie? Chase says, she has to remember, that’s just who Peter is. He wants to get under your skin, if not with poison, than with words. But Peter can’t possibly know. Laura approaches them, and says, Peter can’t possibly know what?

Peter says he can’t wait to get back to Pentenville, and Dante says, really? The place where he was poisoned, and it almost killed him? Peter says he’ll take the risk of lax security if it means getting to trial faster. (Ha Security doesn’t get any less lax than at GH.) Martin walks in, and Peter says, speaking of which, here’s his attorney. Martin asks if Dante will do him a favor, and give him five minutes with alone with Peter. Dante says he’ll be right outside, and leaves. Peter asks, what brings Martin here? Good news he hopes. Martin says, that depends on which side of those handcuffs you’re on. He’s sorry, but he finds it necessary to recuse himself from Peter’s defense. Peter says he sees. If Martin no longer wishes to represent him, they’ll go their separate ways; no hard feelings. Martin asks, what’s the catch?

Valentin asks if he and Victor can meet later, and Victor says, of course (🍷). He’ll make a reservation at the PC Grill. Valentin thanks him, and he leaves. Valentin thanks the nurse for getting his daughter’s file, and she tells him that the file can’t leave this floor. He says, understood. He’s looking for a sonogram from the third trimester. He’s a bit of a sentimental, and wants a copy. He’ll treasure it for always. He flips through the file, and says, there’s no sonogram in the file. How’s that possible? He was there when it was taken. Did somebody deliberately remove it? She says, no, it was never in here, and he says, of course (🍷). It would be in her mother’s file. He doesn’t suppose she could let him have a look at Brook’s information without permission, and she says, no. He says, so he can be prepared in case of an emergency, his daughter’s blood type is O negative, right? She says, no, his daughter is O positive, and he thanks her.

Brook tells Laura, they were just talking about what an awful human being Peter is. How much harm he’s caused to Maxie, and Elizabeth; to her family, especially to Monica. Between Jason dying, and Drew being locked away in that prison for all that time, Peter deserves to be locked up until the end of time. Chase says, they’re hoping when Peter goes to trial, he’ll be convicted, and sentenced to life. Laura says she has the same hope. It’s really easy for young adults, new parents, to lose their sense of faith with all the responsibility, but they can’t let that happen, for Bailey’s sake. Because she will grow up in a better, safer, kinder world, where Peter can’t come back to haunt any of them. Brook says, amen to that, and Chase tells Brook, anything to protect Bailey

Peter tells Martin, there’s no catch. If Martin can’t give his defense the time and attention it deserves, he’ll find someone who will. Martin thanks him for being so understanding, and Peter says, naturally, Martin will be returning his retainer. Martin says, ordinarily, he’d deduct the time he’s already spent working on Peter’s case, but what the hell? It’s a small price to pay for his conscience. Peter says he didn’t know Martin had one, when Dante comes back. He asks if everything is okay here, and Martin tells him, he’d say so. Peter no longer requires his services. He wishes them both a good night, and leaves. Dante says, Peter fired Martin? but Peter says, no. Martin walked away from him. Dante says, smart man. He’ll leave Peter with Officer Bridges in case he gets scared. Peter tells him, sleep tight, and Dante says he’s sure he will, and leaves.

Epiphany tell Marshall that she doesn’t have time for dreams, and her break is almost over. He says he was about to go too, but not before she hears him out. Whatever Dr. Rose told her, he had his reasons, but he wants her to know that he trusts her with his life any day. He knew he was in good hands that night because she was there. He puts some money on the table, and tips his hat. He leaves, and Epiphany smiles.

In the car, Spencer asks Esme, was Joss right? Did she get everyone to the cabin to humiliate them, and blow up his friendships? She looks at him coldly.  

Cameron and Josslyn go into the bedroom, and there’s a song part. They kiss, and he asks, is she sure? She says, she’s so sure, and they get busy. I used to work at a women’s clinic, and a brochure popped into my mind that had a cartoon condom saying, wait! Stop! Put me on!

Esme asks Spencer, what difference does it make what she says? He’s so ready to believe the worst of her. He says, that’s not an answer. He needs to know if what Joss accused her of is actually true. Esme remembers going into the master bedroom, and looking in the mirror. She wipes some tears away, and takes out her phone. She sets up the phone behind some plants on a dresser, pointing the camera toward the bed, and putting it on to film. In the present, she tells Spencer, all she wanted to do was get to know his friends better, and for him to make great memories before he goes to prison. Does he think she planned this weekend to be something diabolical? It just makes her sad.

Basking in their first afterglow, Cameron tells Josslyn, wow. Don’t get him wrong. He’s glad they waited, but…  She says she’s glad they waited too, but she’s also really glad they had this moment. To think how close they came to letting Esme ruin this for them… He says he doesn’t want to think about Esme right now. He wants to focus on her. They start getting busy again, and we see the phone camera filming. I have to say, I don’t see the purpose. They’re exclusive and in college, for Pete’s sake. Even if Esme was going to doctor it in some way, both Cameron and Josslyn are sober, and who would everyone believe?

Stella says, Curtis clearly has a choice to make. Does he want answers that might tell him things he doesn’t want to know, or does he want his father back in ? Marshall walks in, and says, small world. Do they mind if he joins them?

On the phone, gliding through the hall, Martin says, la Lucy, his sexy, sexy thing. His schedule just opened up. What say they catch a flight to the Big Easy and get themselves a nice heaping helping of Mardi Gras?

Laura goes into Peter’s room, and he says, madame mayor. To what does he owe this honor? She says she just saw Martin, and he was smiling ear to ear, because he no longer represents Peter. He told her that Peter didn’t argue or put up any fight to try and keep him. She had to wonder, why so magnanimous? Peter flashes back to seeing Bailey, and saying she looks just like her mother. He says he has faith in the system. Somehow, he just knows things are going to work out for the best.

Valentin walks through the hospital parking lot, leaving a voicemail for Anna. He tells her to call him. He’s got a lead on Louise. A thug runs up behind him, chloroforming him, and knocking him out. Someone picks up Valentin’s car remote, and we see it’s Victor. He says, be careful; that’s his son. He opens a hatchback, and a fancy – and very clean and spacious – trunk opens up. He tells the thug, oh, and cancel his dinner reservations. The thug puts Valentin in the truck, and it’s closed up.  

On Monday, Phyllis asks if she knows Stella, Esme says she doesn’t want to go home with Spencer, Carly says that happiness seems further away, and Ned tells Sonny that he should reconsider whatever he’s planning.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Drew sits at the MetroCourt bar looking at the picture of him that Scout made. Carly comes in, and asks what he has, and he shows her, saying, it’s a portrait of him made by a budding young artist who goes by the name of Scout. It looks just like him, wouldn’t she say? She does say, and adds it’s good he appreciates the effort. He asks if she’s okay. After the other night on the bridge, he wants her to know she can talk to him. Her phone rings, and it’s Michael, so she steps away to take it. She asks, what’s up?

Laura asks Doc if he thinks there’s any chance this could work, and he says, either way, she has to try, right? She says, absolutely. She can’t just stand by and watch her family fall apart. She says they should get going on this, and calls upstairs to Spencer. He asks what he can do for her. It’s not about his take-out order of dinner, is it? She says, no. It’s about a family meeting. He says, what’s tonight’s topic? and she says, family unity. There’s a knock at the door, and Doc lets Nikolas in.

Britt says, Brad poisoned Peter? He means literally poisoned him, not a figure of speech? He says, literally, but she doesn’t believe it, and says, he’s no killer. He says he’s done some pretty horrible things, and she says, agreed; so has she. But murder? She gets up, and says, he hadn’t crossed that threshold. He says he still hasn’t. Peter’s not dead. She says, attempted murder doesn’t score him any points, and he says he didn’t know what he was doing until after the fact. She says, okay. How did he get the poison? He says, his Aunt Selena. I’m not sure why they’re both acting like this is the worst crime of the century, since, had Brad succeeded, he would have been doing the world a favor. And how come Selena wasn’t on top of this, and someone finish the job?

Ava goes to Nina’s office, and hears Martin saying that Nina’s in the clear now. It might be in her best interest to let sleeping dogs lie. Nina sees Ava, and tells her to come in. She’s just finishing up with Martin. Ava says she thought Scotty was Nina’s lawyer, but Nina says she had to fire him after he forced Willow to talk about her relationship with Sonny on the witness stand. Ava says, which got the identity fraud charges dropped. It’s thanks to Scotty that her legal problems are over, or has something new come up? Nina says, there’s nothing new. It’s still what it’s always been about; her grandson Wiley.

Michael says, Carly moved out? Where is she? She says she has a suite at the MetroCourt. She just needed some time away from Sonny so she could get her head straight. He asks if she took Donna and Avery with her, but she says, no. She couldn’t disrupt their lives, and Avery has been so clingy with Sonny since he got home. She didn’t want the girls to think she and their father were having problems. She told them that she was working a lot at the MetroCourt and had to stay over. She’ll be there at night before the go to bed, and first thing in the morning when they go to school. Michael says, that’s a lot, and she’ll probably run into dad. Won’t it be too much for her? She says, yeah, but keeping some semblance of stability and seeing the girls will be worth it. What about him? Has he talked to Sonny since Nina’s hearing? Sonny walks in, and Michael says he’ll call her back.

Ava asks how Nina expects Martin to help her with Wiley. No offense. Martin says, none taken, but maybe they should discuss this another time. Nina says they can speak freely in front of Ava, and tells Ava that she’s consulting Martin about ways to ensure she can see Wiley. Ava asks if she’s talking about taking Michael and Willow to court, and Nina says, it’s an option. Martin says, if memory serves, he and Ava were discussing the same point a while back. How in the state of New York, if a biological parent is deceased… Ava says, yes, and a biological grandparent has the right to visitation. She asks if Nina is sure she wants to start poking this hornet’s nest. She doesn’t think she and Michael can work something out between the two of them? Nina says, with Carly whispering in Michael’s ear? No, not likely.

Michael says he didn’t expect to see Sonny here, and Sonny says, he heard Michael was speaking to Frank about his whereabouts, instead of talking to him directly. Michael says he’s still processing. He couldn’t believe what he heard that Sonny said on the stand, and Sonny says he didn’t want Michael’s mom to hear that on the stand. Whatever he and Nina had is over. Michael says, what happened between Sonny and Nina is none of his business, but the look on mom’s face when she told him about it? That, he can’t forgive.

Drew finds Carly in a private lounge area, and says her name. She says, she’s sorry. It’s been a day. It’s been a really rough day. He says he really hopes things get better, and starts to leave, but she says, he’s not going to ask her what’s going on? He says, it seems like she’s got a lot on her mind, and she says, it’s because of New Year’s Eve, isn’t it? She’s sorry. She should have never put him off, and acted the way she did. He says she has nothing to apologize for. He’s not trying to take Jason’s place – been there, done that – but just know, if she ever needs a shoulder… She says she does.

Laura thanks Nikolas for coming, and Spencer says, no Ava? At least grandmother realizes she isn’t part of our family. Nikolas says, Ava is most definitely part of this family, and Laura agrees. She invited Ava, but Ava politely declined. Nikolas says, Ava was being thoughtful. She probably thought her being here would make the conversation less smooth. Spencer says, she’s probably out spending his money, and Nikolas says, what was that? Spencer says, when she summoned him to the MetroCourt to discuss the work he’d being doing for her at the gallery to make restitution – after he serves his sentence – she made it a point of throwing it in his face that she was using money from his trust fund to cover their tab. Doc comes in, and says he thinks they’re getting off track, and Laura says she’s very sorry she wasn’t here when everything fell apart between the two of them. Spencer says, translation, when Nikolas lost his mind and gave Ava control of his trust fund, and Nikolas says, because Spencer refuses to accept that Ava is part of this family. Spencer says, not his family, and Doc suggests they take it down a notch. Laura says, how about if they all sit down? but Spencer says, he’ll stand.

Brad tells Britt, his aunt told him to deliver a specific food tray to a specific cell in solitary. When he got there, he realized he was transporting a meal for Peter August, and that there might be something suspect about it. She says, he had no idea whatsoever? Why did he think his aunt was catering for anyone, let alone Peter? Brad says, he had his suspicions, but it was the only way she’d help with the parole board. Britt says, now she has leverage. Brad does her bidding or she’ll tip off the cops about Peter’s adventures in not-so fine dining. He says, nothing that satiric. He’s afraid his aunt will kill him if he tries to defy her. There’s a knock at the door, and Britt says, come in. Dante walks in, and Britt asks what she can do for him. She asks if it has something to do with a patient’s confidential medical information, but he says, no. Not currently. He has information about Peter August. She says, what about Peter? and he says he wants to discuss plans to have Peter moved to the infirmary in Pentenville. According to his doctor, he’s going to be strong enough to travel pretty soon. Brad sighs, and Dante asks if Brad has something to say. Britt says, soon isn’t now. How can she help facilitate this transfer? Dante says, that’s what he’s here to try and coordinate. They have to make sure all the boxes are checked. They need to have the medical records done by the medical director, and schedule the appropriate section meeting before they can have him released. Once that’s done, they can issue a transfer warrant. He knows it’s a lot, and he’ll walk her through it, but they can’t have anyone dropping the ball on this one. She says, agreed. Let her look at Peter’s labs, and they can talk tomorrow. Dante says, sounds good; give him a call. He stops before he goes out the door, and says, hey, Brad. What’s this he hears about Brad staying with Selena Wu? Brad says, she’s his aunt, and Dante says, that’s a good idea, right? Getting close to the head of the Wu crime family while you’re on parole. Watch your step. Britt asks why Dante is harassing Brad. Dante’s brother is the one threatening people. Dante says, Michael? and she says, yes, Michael. He threatened Brad at the MetroCourt in front of everyone. Dante asks if she was a witness to this alleged threat, and she says she heard about it. Dante says, so no, and asks if Brad wants to file a complaint, but Brad says, no need. He just wants to get on with his life. Dante says, sounds like they’re done here, and Britt says, tell his brother that Brad won’t be intimidated, and Dante says, sure. He asks her to let him know when she has those labs, and leaves. She says, that went well, and Brad pops an antacid.

Laura says, Nikolas and Spencer are so much alike, and Doc says, birds of a feather. Nikolas says he’s sorry. As the adult, he shouldn’t have let Spencer bait him. Spencer says, Nikolas keeps forgetting he’s an adult too. He has a job, and makes his own money. He’s certainly not relying on an inherited family fortune. Laura says she’s proud of him for that. She’s proud he kept his job at Kelly’s, even though it wasn’t easy for him. Spencer thanks her, and says, he’s adjusted. After he serves his time, both at Ava’s gallery and Spring Ridge, he can start saving up for his own place. Laura says, this is exactly what she wanted to talk about. He’s only got a few weeks before he goes to Spring Ridge, and serving a 30 day sentence. And going to prison, even if it’s a minimum security prison, is going to test his emotional and mental strength. She knows he can do it, and has every faith in him. Look how stubborn he’s being now. She thinks it would be better and easier if when he went to Spring Ridge, he had his whole family standing by him. She turns to Nikolas, and says, she thinks it’s important. Does Nikolas think he can reconcile with his son before Spencer goes to prison? Nikolas says, he wants that. He hates the walls between them. He misses his son. Spencer says he misses Nikolas too. He sits down, and Esme comes in. She asks, what’s going on? and Spencer says, they’re just having a meeting. Grandmother wants him to make peace with his father. She says, is that what he wants? He gets up, and says, no. She says she’s glad she came home when she did. Don’t worry. She won’t let his family gang up on him. She takes off her coat, and stands in front of them with her arms folded.

Nina tells Ava that Willow came to her last night, and suggested she give up her legal rights to Wiley as a gesture of good will to Michael. Ava says, that sounds extreme, and Nina says, she accused Willow of doing Michael’s dirty work, but Willow said it was her own idea. She promised to do everything she can to get through to Michael so Nina can still be in Wiley’s life. Ava says, Nina can’t give up her rights to her grandchild, and Martin says, he explained doing so would be irrevocable. If Nina legally abdicates her rights as Wiley’s legal grandmother, she can’t turn around and take them back if Willow failed to soften Michael’s attitude. Nina says, it’s too risky. She can’t take that chance. She picks up Wiley’s photo, and Ava says, then don’t. Do not give up her rights; listen to Martin. Nina says she did, and they were talking about the alternatives, which include going to court, so she can guarantee she has a right to see Wiley. Ava says, she’d be going on the offensive. Is she ready to do that? Nina says, what other choice does she have? She can’t just wait around for Michael’s mood to soften. She wants to be part of her grandson’s life now. Ava says, of course (🍷) she does. The question is – she looks at Martin – can Nina win? He says, she can definitely win. The problem is, is she really ready to burn down that last bridge?

Drew asks if Carly just wants to dive right in and talk about it, but Carly wants to hear about something that makes her smile. Why doesn’t he tell her about Scout? He says, she’s amazing. She’s getting more comfortable every time they see each other, just like Sonny said she would. Him, on the other hand, he’s been gone so long, half of Scout’s life. He has a lot of catching up to do, things to learn. What’s her favorite color? Her best friend’s name? He asked her what her favorite flavor of ice cream was, and she was so confused, like, you don’t know? You’re my daddy. Carly says, that must have hurt, and he says, he just told her that he had a lot to learn, and she needs to teach him. That made her happy. It brought home how much time they’ve lost and how many things they have to get back. She says, reunions are tough. As happy as you are to reconnect, you realize the person has changed since you last saw them.

Sonny tells Michael, when he came home he was hit with a lot of things. Michael’s mom was getting married. He wanted to tell her, but then Jason died. He did the best he could for his family. Michael says, Nina lied to Sonny, to them, for months. How is it best for his family to protect her? Sonny says he understands; Michael wants to hold Nina accountable. He’s not saying anything about that. Michael says, but Sonny doesn’t understand what he’s feeling, because if he did, he would have never stood up for Nina at that hearing.

Doc asks Esme to allow him to buy her a cup of coffee while the family talks, but Esme says she thinks she should be here. Spencer says, go, it’s fine. Please go. He needs to do this on his own. She kisses him, and says, if he needs her, just text her. She’ll come right back. Doc opens the door, and says, shall we? Esme snatches up her coat, and they leave. Spencer shrugs, and says, Esme seems to be the only one who’s there for him, and Nikolas says, he wants to be there for Spencer, but Esme’s attitude of us-against-them isn’t helping. Spencer says, and Ava’s idea of family unity is? Laura asks if they can please get back to where they were. It’s really only about the two of them, father and son. Do try to leave everyone else out of it. It’s really frustrating for her, because she knows how much they love each other. Nikolas says he does love Spencer, and Spencer says he felt the love all those years Nikolas let him believe he was dead.

Drew tells Carly, it amazes him how quickly Scout warmed up to him, as if nothing bad ever happened to her in her life. She’s fearless. Who knows? Maybe there will come a time in her life when she doesn’t remember daddy wasn’t around to tuck her in. She says, the father/daughter bond is so special. She’d never want to deprive Avery or Donna of it ever. He asks, why would she? and she says, she and Sonny are having a problem. He says he’s sorry to hear that. Who threw the first vase this time? She laughs, and says, nothing was thrown. She moved out.

Nina says, maybe she should give it more thought before she take legal action, and Martin says he thinks that would be advisable. Why set something like that in motion if she’s not certain? In the meantime, he’ll see if he can find any precedents that help or hurt her cause, should she decide to go forward. Nina says she likes that idea, and he says he’ll be in touch. He leaves, and Ava sits down. She says, that must have been some chat with Willow to get Nina to contemplate legal action. Nina says, Willow was her second visitor; Carly was her first. She stormed in here, and demanded all the details about what happened between her and Sonny in Nixon Falls. Ava asks, how did that go? and Nina says she went all scorched earth; she held nothing back. Ava says, define scorched earth, and Nina says, she told the truth. That if she hadn’t said no, Sonny would have made love to her.

Nikolas says he’s sorry he didn’t tell Spencer he was alive, but he didn’t want to bring Spencer into the lie, and Spencer was better off. He can’t change his past mistakes, and will always regret hurting Spencer. Laura says, part of growing up is learning to forgive the people who’ve hurt us. Does Spencer want to keep carrying this pain around with him, or does he want to have a relationship with his father now? She thinks it’s time to let bygones be bygones, and move forward as a family. Spencer laughs, and gets up, and she asks if she said something funny. Spencer says, she sounds a lot like Uncle Victor.

At the Bistro, Doc assures Esme, Spencer will be fine. It’s just a family meeting. What has her so upset? She says she’s not upset. She just doesn’t like being dragged away from her boyfriend when he needs her. Doc says, he recalls Spencer asking her to leave, but she says, that’s because he didn’t want to look weak in front of his father. He asks if she thinks Spencer is weak, and she tells him, don’t try to shrink her. She knows a thing or two about psychology herself. He says, that’s right. How is that internship at Spring Ridge going? She says she’s enjoying it. She finds the criminal mind fascinating. She’s sure Doc can relate. She’s read his books on the subject. He says, has she? and she says, which is why she doesn’t understand how he can say Spence being with family makes him safe, considering his brother is Ryan Chamberlain. It’s hard not to notice the large succulent on the table, possibly some hybrid spawn of the moss bowl🎍. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

Brad thanks Britt for standing up for him with Dante, and she says she’ll always stand up for him, but he needs to stop popping those antacids and strengthen that spine. Get his mojo back. Never mind how he got his parole; he’s out now. Leave that prison mentality behind, and start thinking, start acting like a free man. He asks if he wasn’t clear enough. his aunt’s hospitality comes with a price tag, and a huge spotlight. The last thing he wants is police scrutiny. She asks if his aunt has threatened him outright, but he says, not directly. In fact, Aunt Selena’s been very kind, while she controls his whole existence. That’s why he had to wait until she was out of town to visit Britt. He doesn’t know how to distance himself from her without creating offense. People who offend Selena Wu tend to disappear.

Ava says, Nina told Carly that Sonny wanted to have sex with her? Nina says, she was pushing and demanding specifics. She wouldn’t shut up about it. Ava says she knows how relentless Carly can be. But that she came to Nina tells her that Carly is worried. She asks if Nina has heard from Sonny, but Nina says, not since New Year’s Eve. Ava asks if he’s still staying at his place in Harbor View Towers, and Nina says, according to Carly, he’s home. He just wants his family back. Ava says, that doesn’t necessarily have to include Carly, and Nina says, since when? Ava says, she doesn’t know when the tide turned, but the fact Carly was here talking to Nina, instead of home, working things out, reinforces what Ava told Nina the other day. Sonny is still in love with Nina, and Carly knows it.

Sonny tells Michael, he wasn’t going to lie on the stand. Yes, Michael’s mother should have heard about Nina from him, but every time he wanted to say something, it wasn’t the right time. Michael says, Sonny could have found the time, and Sonny yells, he can’t change what happened. He can only be there for the family now; reassure them that they can count on him. Michael says, he was counting on Sonny to help him put Nina behind bars. Instead, they were all blindsided by what he said on the stand. Because of Sonny, the charges against Nina were dropped. That’s not protecting his family. They start to argue loudly, when Dante comes in and says, hey, enough!

Carly tells Drew, she can’t stay in the house with Sonny, because if she does, she can’t breathe, and can’t figure out how she’s feeling. He says, she needs to trust her instincts, and she tells him, Jason used to say that. Drew says, Jason knew her best, and she says, she’s going to be there in the morning when the girls get up, and she’ll be there at night to put them to bed. She wants to keep as much consistency as possible for them. He thinks it’s great she’s thinking about the kids. She’s an incredible mother; it’s obvious the kids are her priority. But does she know how, on an airplane, they tell you to put your oxygen mask on before your child’s? She nods, and he says, that’s because you’re not going to do your kid any good if you’re passed out. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do for you. That way she can be the best mom for Donna and Avery. She says she doesn’t want to break up her family, and he says, from what he’s seen, she and Sonny are the real deal. They’ll find their way back together. She says, what if they can’t? and he says, then he refers her to his original advice of trust her instincts. She thanks him, and says she owes him an apology.

Nina tells Ava, Sonny’s in love with her? She hadn’t even allowed herself to consider that, even though Sonny did say on the stand he was in love with her in Nixon Falls. Maybe more of his feelings survived when he got his memory back than Nina thought. Ava says, there’s no maybe about it. Carly is running scared for a reason. Obviously, she sees Nina as a threat to her marriage. Nina says, everything is nuts right now, but if Sonny and Carly separate, does Ava think there’s a chance for her and Sonny to be together here in Port Charles? Ava says, not if Nina sues Michael for visitation with Wiley. If Nina goes to war with Michael, she’ll lose Sonny forever.

Dante asks, what’s going on? and Michael asks what Dante is doing here. Dante says he came to talk to Michael about something else, but never mind that. Why are they yelling at each other? Michael says, his mom is living at the MetroCourt, and Dante says, he’s sorry to hear that. Michael says, she moved out because dad refuses to leave the house, and Dante says, he thought Sonny was at the penthouse. Sonny says he’s not giving up on his marriage, but they’re at an impasse, and he called Carly’s bluff. Michael says, she wasn’t bluffing, and Sonny says he didn’t expect her to leave; he’s not giving up. He’s getting Michael’s mother back. Michael says, by ignoring what she wants? and Dante says, it’s a tough situation for everyone, okay? Michael says, that’s easy for Dante to say. His mom’s not the one who’s got to stay away.   

Ryan says, his brother is a very dangerous man, but Esme isn’t really comparing Laura and Nikolas to Ryan, is she? She says, no. She just means people go on and on about how great family is, but psychopaths have families too. He says, yes, they do, and sometimes we’re hurt by the people we love and trust. She must been hurt when her parents died. She says, of course (🍷). She was devastated. He says, Spencer told him she has siblings, but he’s never heard her mention them. Were they separated when their parents died? She says, they’re not close, but they were talking about his brother; Ryan, his twin. Does he ever visit Ryan at Spring Ridge? She’s never seen him there. He says he monitors Ryan’s progress, but he doesn’t visit, and she asks if people with Locked-In Syndrome ever recover. He asks just how much time is she spending with Ryan? but she says, barely any. His case just stands out. Doc says, Ryan is not a simple case study. He’s a man who’s killed people, and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again, given half the chance. If she ever saw who Ryan really is, she woudn’t be intrigued. She’d be terrified, and she’d be right to be so.

Laura asks how she sounds like Victor, and Spencer says, Uncle Victor gave him a whole speech on family loyalty. Laura says, this is very important. Do not fall prey to Victor’s manipulations. Spencer asks, what happened to forgiveness? She doesn’t have any of that for Uncle Victor? She says she misspoke. We forgive the people who are truly sorry for having hurt us. That’s not Victor. Spencer says, Uncle Victor might not be the most popular person, but Victor’s always been good to him. Nikolas says he knows how important family is to Spencer, but he doesn’t have to turn to Victor. Nikolas is right here. He loves Spencer. He wants his son back.

Britt says, they can figure out a way to get the better of Brad’s Aunt Selena, and he asks if she’s been paying attention. The woman is formidable. She says, so are they. Formidable, and well-versed in wiggling out of trouble. He says, except when they get caught. He just doesn’t see a way out of this. His aunt has him under her thumb, and has already warned him to stay away from Britt. Britt says, so what? She’s there for him, no matter what his control freak aunt wants. He asks if she’s sure, and she says she’s stood up to worse than his Aunt Selena, and lived to tell. He’s her best friend. She’s not letting his aunt take him from her. He says, he’s lucky to have her, even if she did betray him by getting another wingman. She says, he’s back! She just had an idea. She might know someone who could help him.

Doc hopes Esme heeds his warning about Ryan. He’s not being dramatic; it’s for her own safety. She says, got it. How much longer does she have to wait before she can go back to Spence? He says, Laura will text when they’re finished. He asks if Esme is still worried, and says, she doesn’t need to protect Spencer from his family. It seems to him, not long ago she was pushing for a reconciliation. What happened? She says, maybe it has something to do with him being sent to a correctional facility, and his family is letting it happen. Doc says, Spencer committed a crime. There was nothing they could do about that. She says, Ava never had to press charges in the first place, and he says, she wanted Spencer to take responsibility. Esme says she guesses Ava got what she wanted, and he says, they’re all on Spencer’s side. She asks if he’ll excuse her. She needs to use the ladies room. She promises not to sneak out. He says he didn’t expect her to, but thanks for the heads up. She leaves, and he makes a call. He says, it’s Dr. Collins for Warden Brewster. It’s urgent. He needs to restrict who has access to Ryan Chamberlain.

Spencer says he wants Nikolas back too – without Ava. Nikolas says, this again, and Laura says, honestly? Spencer says, those are his terms, and Nikolas says, Spencer is being completely unreasonable. Spencer says he guesses there’s nothing left to say, and walks off. Nikolas tells Laura, he tried. He needs to go. Laura loudly says, same time next week, and Spencer stops and says, they’re doing this again? She says, he thought this was a one and done? Absolutely not. She’s not giving up on the two of them. They’re going to keep talking, because talking to each other is the only way they’ll be able to work this out.

Ava says, Nina knows how Sonny is about his kids. If he has to choose between Michael and Nina… Nina says, no contest, and any hope of her having a life with Sonny will be dashed, but what about Wiley? She doesn’t want that little boy growing up with Carly’s version of her; he’ll hate her. Ava says, Sonny’s on Nina’s side. He’ll get Michael to come around. Nina says, but won’t Michael just hate her even more because she broke up his parents’ marriage? but Ava says, seems like his parents’ marriage is exploding all on its own. Nina just has to stand back and let it happen. Maybe be around to pick up the pieces. Nina says, it’s a great fantasy, but Ava says, it’s not a fantasy. Just play cool. Play her cards right, and Nina can have Wiley and Sonny in her life. Isn’t that what she really wants?

Drew says, Carly has nothing to apologize about, but she says she does. When Jason came home, she got so caught up in having him back, she was totally focused on that, when Drew was having a hard time. He says, it was a crazy situation, and looking back, he didn’t handle it well. She says, how could he? He was still trying to come to terms with what happened to him, and who he was. He says, he pulled away from her and Sonny too; it was a tough time. She says she wishes she’d been a better friend, and he says she’s a great friend. He hopes she hasn’t been worried about this; he’s long over it. She says she doesn’t really know him that well; the real Drew Cain, separate from Jason. She’s glad she got a second chance. He says, him too. Look what she almost missed. They laugh.

Dante says, Michael is being protective of his mother; he’s being protective of his father. But neither of them are in the relationship. They’re on the outside, looking in, so they can’t judge. Decisions were made, and now they all have to deal with the consequences, right? Sonny says, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do, and Michael says, now, after the truth has come out. Sonny says he loves Michael’s mother. Does Michael know that or not? Michael says he does. He loves them both, but hates seeing mom in so much pain. Dante says, they’re all just trying to protect their family, and Michael says, that’s what he’s trying to do, but dad needs to give mom what she’s asking for, which is space and… Sonny gets loud, and yells, why does Michael keep asking him to do something? He can’t make amends if Carly won’t talk to him. Dante asks if Sonny is okay, and Sonny says, he’s okay. He’s just got to talk to Carly. Michael says, but he can’t push. Sonny says he doesn’t like waiting, but for Michael’s mother, he’ll wait.

On Monday, Laura asks if Curtis is ready to accept his father back into his life, Marshall asks why Epiphany isn’t following her dream, and Diane asks Carly if this is a step she wants to take.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

General Hospital

I missed the very beginning because that guy was still talking, but it’s an easy catch-up.

Sonny tells Carly that his dad was chatting up the waitress. It was like he was his old self, and called Sonny son, like he used to. Then everything went to hell. Carly says she’s so sorry, and Sonny asks why she’s still in the ER. She says, Gladys, and Sonny asks if she’s hurt. Carly says, no. She’s fine, but her son was shot. Brando.

Gladys tells Brando, she knows she said he was dead to her, but she wished she could take back the words a million times. She tried, but he didn’t return her calls. She sits, and says, suddenly, Brando showed up at Sonny’s warehouse. Has he forgiven her?

Carly tells Sonny, the shooting started, and she crawled for cover. The bullets were getting closer, and all of a sudden, a man was there, and shielded her. He got shot, but Carly thought he was one of Sonny’s guys. When the shooting stopped, Gladys came out, went to him, and said his name. She was surprised, and to be honest, Gladys was too. She was really trapped and couldn’t run. That man saved her life.

Brando asks why Gladys is there, and how she got mixed up with Sonny. Sonny comes in, and asks Gladys for some privacy. She starts to protest, but he says, out, please. She goes, and Sonny says, so he’s Gladys’s son. Brando says, and he’s Sonny. Sonny says his family was ambushed, and nearly killed. He wants Brando to tell him what he was doing in the warehouse when it happened.

Gladys tells Carly that Brando is doing well; they had the most wonderful reunion. Carly says Gladys told them that he was dead. She played the grieving mother act to the hilt, when she knew he was alive. Why? Gladys says she shouldn’t have done that; not with Carly and Sonny. She’s sorry. Carly says she should be, and Gladys says, when Brando came back from the war, he wasn’t himself. Carly says, that happens to a lot of guys, but their mothers don’t go around telling everyone that they’re dead. Gladys says Brando got mixed up with some bad people, and the truth was embarrassing. It was easier to say he was dead. She told everyone he’d been redeployed and killed in Iraq. Carly says Gladys lied about being a gold-star mother; that’s terrible. Gladys agrees, and says she didn’t know where he was or what he was doing with his life. Carly says Brando knew what Gladys was doing with hers, and holds up picture of Gladys and Dev.

Brando tells Sonny that he doesn’t know anything about the ambush. He came looking for his mother. Sonny asks if Gladys told him that she was there, and Brando says, not exactly. He saw her MyFace page, and she said she was staying with Mike’s family. Sonny asks what Brando knows about him and his family, and Brando says, not much. He doesn’t think Sonny knows much about him either. Sonny says Brando came to his place of business, and Brando says when he got to the warehouse, it was under attack. He could see through the door, and saw a woman who was pinned down, so he covered her while she could get to a secure position. Sonny says that was his wife. She said Brando saved her life. Brando says he just reacted, and Sonny says he knows Brando was in the service and was trained well. Brando’s mother told them he was dead. Does he know anything about that?

Michael says his family is under attack, and he has no idea who wants them dead. Jax says, it’s because of his father’s business. Josslyn wonders if Brando knows about Dev. If he doesn’t, he could blow everything. Dev asks if he’s getting sent back to Turkey.

Nelle shows up to move in at the Quartermaine mansion, but Brook says Nelle tried to kill Michael; he hates her. Nelle says Michael is confused, and to tell him that she’s there. Brook says, it’s late, and Michael is probably out with his girlfriend, but Nelle says Brook is just looking for an excuse to avoid the truth. Brook says, Michael would have told Monica – it’s her house. Nelle says when she was pregnant with Michael’s baby, she and Monica were close, and Monica was nice to her. Brook says she tried to kill Michael. Monica won’t forgive or forget; no more than the rest of them. Nelle can’t be so delusional that she can’t see how Michael despises her. Even if he forgave her – and that’s a huge if – why would she want to live there?

At the hospital, Willow asks Brad, please accept the help. He says she’s concerned about Nelle, but does she hear herself? Willow says, it’s not about her; it’s about Wiley. Brad has to be strong. Brad says, after everything he’s gone through since he and Lucas brought the baby home; he’s walked through fire for that kid.

Nikolas tells an unconscious Laura, he was planning revenge on Valentin, when he should have spent the years with her and Spencer. Instead, he turned from everyone he loves, and let darkness in. Now that he finally understands that, it may be too late.

Willow tells Brad, that’s what parents do; they’d do anything for their children. She knows how hard it’s been without Lucas. Wiley’s kidnapping was scary for all of them, but it’s over. Brad says, it’s not over. He still has nightmares. He and Lucas took turns sleeping in Wiley’s room; they didn’t let him out of their sight. She says she gets it, but Wiley is safe now, and healthy. Brad asks if she thinks that’s enough. Carly is always hovering, and so is Bobbie. She says, they’re Wiley’s family, and they love him. He says, Michael is obsessed. He’s Wiley’s godfather, but wants to be his parent. She says Brad should be grateful Michael cares, and he supposes she thinks he should be grateful to her too.

Nelle says, it’s just them. Brook doesn’t have to impress her family by making a show of hating her. Brook says she meant every word; Nelle is a gold-digging psycho. Nelle says she’s a grieving widow, whose husband left her 5% of ELQ. It makes sense for them to get along. Michael is. Brook says he’s not home, and Nelle can go back to where she came from, and wait there. She opens the door, and Nelle says, she was staying with Brad, but for some reason, Michael thinks it’s not the best place for her. Brook says, okay. Now she gets it. She slams the door shut, and says Michael doesn’t want Nelle spending time with Wiley. She can’t say she blames him.

Dev says this is going to be more trouble for Sonny, and it’s the last thing Sonny needs. Jax says, Sonny can take care of himself, and Michael says, there’s no point in speculating. Josslyn says, it will just made a bad situation worse, and Michael says his dad is handling it. They need to sit tight, and they’ll get through it. He goes out to the terrace where Sasha is waiting. She says she was checking the news about the shooting, but it’s just clips repeating what they already know. He says if there’s any news, his mom will call, and Sasha ask how Carly is. Michael says, considering she just got shot at, he guesses she’s okay. Sasha says, how about him, or was that dumb question? Michael says it’s not, and he isn’t. Sasha says, talk to her, and Michael says they need to stop seeing each other.

Gladys asks how Carly got the photo, and Carly says, from the bag of Brando’s belongings. Gladys gets excited, and asks if Carly knows what that means. Brando was looking for her on social media. He cares about her. Carly asks why Gladys was on social media, and Gladys says Carly and Sonny made her feel like part of a family, so she wanted to post updates about her, Mike, and Dev. She loves saying she’s Dev’s grandmother, and guesses she just wanted everyone to see how happy she was. Carly asks if she was secretly hoping Brando would see, and Gladys admits, the family made her feel so good, maybe she did want him to see. Carly says, he did, and Gladys says she hadn’t heard from him in so long, she figured it was too late. She was surprised to see him.

Brando tells Sonny that he and Gladys haven’t talked years. Sonny asks, why? and Brando says they had one helluva fight. He left Bridgeport, and never looked back. He checked Glady’s MyFace page once in a while, and saw she was staying with Sonny. She posted pictures of her and some kid she said was her grandson, but he never had children. Who is he?

Dev gets that it’s all his fault, but Josslyn says, it’s not his fault; it’s Gladys’s. She lied to them. Jax says he blames Sonny. On the terrace, Sasha asks if Michael is breaking up with her. He says his family is being targeted, and Dev’s father showing up makes it harder. They have no idea who the enemy is. She asks what it has to do with her, and he says he doesn’t want her in any more danger. They need to go their separate ways. Sasha says, no; they don’t.

Carly asks if Gladys didn’t expect Brando to show up, and Gladys says it’s been years since they were in contact. She said harsh things that he took at face value. He left a hole in her heart, and when Sonny showed up, she got to heal. Doing a good deed grew her heart. Carly says, Sonny is paying her, but Gladys says, that didn’t keep her heart from swelling. She never should have shut Brando out her life. Carly asks why she did.

Sonny says he and Brando will talk about his mother later. Where did he go after Bridgeport? Brando says, Chicago was his last stop before Port Charles. Sonny asks if he brought any luggage, and Brando says it’s at the motel where he’s staying. His turn. Who’s the kid? His mom says it’s her grandson. Sonny tells him not to worry about that right now. Brando saved his wife’s life. He’s going to get the best care possible. Just rest.

Gladys says she told Carly already, but Carly wants to know why she feels like there’s more to the story. Gladys says, what’s important is that Brando came back; she wants to concentrate on that. Sonny joins  them, and says she has other things to concentrate on. Like how her son is here and alive. She says she’s sorry she lied to him, and he says, more than once. He doesn’t tolerate people lying.

Brad says Willow is just another problem. Don’t think he doesn’t see what’s behind it every time she deals with Wiley. She’s fantasizing about raising him herself. She’s made it clear that she doesn’t think he’s a good father. She says, maybe not. He hasn’t spoken one word against Nelle.

Brook says just because Michael doesn’t want Nelle with Wiley, doesn’t mean she has to stay there. Carly owns the MetroCourt. Nelle says she’d rather go back to Brad than stay in Carly’s hotel. She would think Brooke sympathizes. Brook says she thinks wrong. Nelle says she heard Carly led Brook astray, encouraging her to get in between Lulu and Dante. When it went south, she let Brook take the blame. Brook says, so Nelle thought they’d team up to take Carly down? It was a long time ago, and they’ve all moved on. Nelle asks how she can be so unfeeling? Nelle lost her kidney and her baby, and went to prison. Now, the Quartermaines refuse to recognize that she has a stake in ELQ. Brook doesn’t know what it’s like for all the Quartermaines to be against her. Brook says, Nelle doesn’t know what it’s like, but she will.

Nikolas tells Laura, it took her being shot to shake him up, and Spencer and Lulu’s anger. He shouldn’t have let them slip away just so he could discover he’s a vengeful and greedy man. He missed her every day. He wants to do better, be better, but he needs her to tell him that she forgives him. Without that, without her… Laura opens her eyes and says, Nikolas.

Willow asks what is it with Brad and Nelle? Why does he keep protecting her? He says, they’re friends, and Willow says she gets it. The pressure is getting to him, and he’s having a breakdown. He needs help. He says he’s fine, but she says the only person who can help him is a real friend; her, Michael, or Julian. But who does he leave Wiley with? Nelle. He says he can take care of his son on his own. There’s nothing she can do.

Gladys tells Sonny that she didn’t want to lie. She was so used to telling people that Brando was dead, in a way, it was like he was dead. Sonny says, but he’s alive. He says Gladys is going to tell Brando that some lady showed up and claimed he was Dev’s father. Gladys says, Brando always had a lot of girlfriends. Sonny says, one more thing. If she even mentions to Brando that he’s protecting Dev, she’s going to regret it. Understand? She thanks him, and asks if she can see her boy now. Sonny nods, and Gladys goes back into Brando’s room. Carly asks if thinks it will work, and Brando will believe it. Sonny says he’s not saying anything until he finds out who Brando is, and why he’s there. She asks what Brando said, and he says, not much. She says, Gladys was vague on details too, and he says that’s why he doesn’t trust either of them. But he can’t concentrate on that now. He’s got to figure out who targeted his family. Carly says, and him. They were all almost killed. She hugs him.

Jax says he’s glad Josslyn is okay; he loves her. She says she loves him too, and he says he’s going to check in and see if Sonny is back. She tells him not to be too hard on Sonny, but he says he’s not making that promise. He says goodbye to Dev, and leaves. Dev says Josslyn’s dad cares about her. He asks if she’s really okay, and she says, thanks to Michael and Dustin. Dev says, it could have gone the other way, and she asks if he was scared for her. He says he was, and he feels bad about the whole thing… She says, when he kissed her? and he says he wishes he could take back the way he reacted.

Nelle takes Brook’s hands, and says she’s not like the other Quartermaines. She’s open-minded, and less constricted from family expectations, which opens her up to more judgement. They’re not bad people. Brook says, Nelle is, and Nelle says she’s never done anything bad to Brook. Brook says, the night is still young. Nelle wonders how Brook can believe the lies the family is feeding her. Why can’t Brook judge her for herself? Brook wonders if Nelle’s BS really works. She plays the victim card, and if that doesn’t work, she tries to bond. Brook might have screwed up her own future, but she’s not going to plot to kill her fiancé and leave him to drown. She won’t stalk a family, and drug a grieving father, then plot to kill a second fiancé. They’re not going to bond, and they’re not friends. Nelle had better call a ride share, and start walking. She’s not waiting for pick-up on Quartermaine property.

Sasha says she doesn’t think Michael really wants her out of his life. He says he’d be lying if he didn’t say his life was better with her in it. This is the start of something bad, and he doesn’t want to drag her in. She says she just went through something bad of her own making, and went through it with the best person she knows. He says he wants to keep her safe, and she says she wants to keep him safe too – from Nelle, or anyone who’s trying to harm him. He says he doesn’t want her near Nelle, but she says it’s her decision. He doesn’t get to choose for her. Does he think she’ll stop worrying about him, and just walk away and get on with her life? He says he’s trying to protect her because he loves her. She’s got news for him; she loves him too. and they’re going to deal with this together. Consequences be damned. They kiss.

Michael’s phone rings, and he asks what Nelle wants. Nelle says she’s at the Quartermaine’s, and Brook won’t let her stay there. She could go back to Brad and spend time with Wiley. Michael tells her to put Brook on, and Brook says, please tell her that he didn’t tell that crazy bitch she can live there, and he says he’ll explain later. Please give her a room. Brook hangs up, and Nelle asks if it’s too late to ask Cook to make cherries jubilee for dinner. Brook asks if Nelle knows who else loves cherries jubilee? Her granny. She’ll put Nelle in the room next to her. Nelle says, Tracy? and Brook says, the one and only. There’s a bathroom in between the rooms, and she’s sure Tracy will love sharing. Nelle says she wanted a room with a lake view, and Brook says, and disappoint granny? Not a chance. Brook leads Nelle upstairs.

Sasha says, that didn’t sound good, and Michael says she has no idea what she’s getting herself into. She says, as long as they’re together, they can handle anything, and they kiss.

Willow wishes Brad could see she’s on his side, and asks him to let her help. She can take care of Wiley tonight, and tomorrow, Brad can pull himself together, and figure out what he needs to do to get back on track. Brad asks how many times he has to tell her. She’s not coming home with him tonight or any other night. She’s fired.

Nikolas asks how Laura is feeling, and says he’ll get the doctor. She tells him, wait. The things he was saying… He says she heard him? and she says she loves him. She’s always going to love him.

Jax calls Carly, and asks if she knows any more about Brando. She says, not a lot. Sonny is still trying to get the truth. Jax says, put him on, but Carly says, it’s not a good time. Sonny has his hands full. Jax says he’ll wait at the house until they’re empty. Josslyn tells Dev not to let it bother him. It was a dumb mistake, and after what just happened, it’s unimportant. He asks if she’s sure, and she says she’s positive. Dustin told her to write about what happened, and she thinks she’s going to do that now.

Gladys fusses over Brando. He says Sonny treated him like a suspect, but she says, don’t be silly. His bark is worse than his bite. She gets him some water, and he asks who Dev is. She says, his son.

Carly tells Sonny, Jax wants answers about Brando. He says he’s going to wait at the house. Sonny says, he’ll be waiting a long time; Sonny isn’t going home. He has to find out who’s after his family and why. Carly takes his hand.

Tomorrow, Nelle says she’s not going anywhere, Peter tells Anna that no one can save her, Carly tells Jax that she won’t be separated from Josslyn indefinitely, and Sonny says something is a problem for him.

⛵️  So here’s what happened. Unbeknownst to me, Below Deck was on at 8, because the new Below Deck Sailing Yacht was premiering at 10. When I realized _ as I stared stupidly at the sailing yacht for a few moments – I cursed my life, and just did a QuickieCap of the new show, and watched the OG at 11:30. That’s my long way of saying, I messed up, so now I can’t go to bed as early as I would have liked, even though I wrote less. I’ve put them in the order they were aired.

Below Deck

The d*ck cake is presented, and Kevin finds out primary Jemele went to bed. Kate tells Kevin that she doesn’t know if Jemele is coming back, but the others might like to enjoy dessert. Captain Lee says he’s not taking a bite. In Kate’s interview, she says, it can’t be the first time someone was underwhelmed when Kevin showed them his penis. In the galley, She says Kevin that the primary was too drunk to stay, and just get the plates. He snaps, it was a waste of a day, and she says that’s not her fault. In Kevin’s interview, he says, it’s the last dessert, and it’s embarrassing. He put a lot of effort into the cake, and he looks like an idiot. Kate says it was ordered on the preference sheet, but in his interview, Kevin says he’s never been so embarrassed, and can see the evil look from Kate. She’s an evil bitch. The cake – which really does look very tasty – is served. Courtney thinks the whole thing is awkward, but Kevin is overreacting.

Jemele snores in her cabin. Kate says Kevin has been in a weird mood all night, and has been screaming at her. Kevin sits in the tender, grumbling about Kate. Kate admits maybe she should have told him before he brought the cake out. In Simone’s interview, she says the season was a sh*t show, but Kate is enjoying Kevin’s embarrassment. It’s defeating when you’ve been working so hard. She thinks Kate is vile. Captain Lee bids the guests goodnight.

Ashton calls the deck crew for a meeting. He tells Brian and Rhylee that they’re on the late shift. He wants to finish strong tomorrow, and says, keep focused. In his interview, he says, in the beginning, he tried to make Rhylee feel included, and give her the voice she felt she lost with Chandler and Ross. I must have missed him doing that. We flash back to Chandler and Ross, and Ashton says, even though Rhylee disrespected him, he doesn’t want to finish with them fighting. He just wants to squash the whole thing. Simone gets a hug from a guest who wishes her the best. In his interview, the captain says the timing of the cake couldn’t have been worse. It’s embarrassing for the last charter. The guests had been having a ball, and enjoying the evening.

Tanner calls his mom, who immediately asks if there are sharks are there. Tanner wonders how she thinks. In his interview, he says he loves his mom; she’s soft and gentle. If she was there, she would ask why everyone is so upset, and tell them, please stop it. Kevin goes back to the galley, and Kate says, it’s been a great season. He tells her, eff off. Kate says he’s being weird; the cake was gorgeous, and Courtney adds that the guests all ate it. Kevin says he feels like Kate was squishing him down by withholding information. Why would she do that? She asks, why have him stand in front of the guests with his d*ck on a silver platter? He called her a d*ck today, but guess what? Today she wasn’t the d*ck. He says, the cake was, and Kate says he presented it perfectly. He says Kate can’t train her staff to do a beach party by themselves, and she asks if he doesn’t think they can. He says he thinks they’re more than capable, but for some reason, she goes to the beach. Um… I think that’s her prerogative as chief stew. In Simone’s interview, she says she’s secretly enjoying Kevin standing his ground. Karma is a beautiful thing. Apparently, she doesn’t understand what karma is and how it works, since Kevin’s not exactly embarrassing Kate. Kate says Kevin is being defensive because he presented his penis poorly, and he says she’s unprofessional. He tells Brian that he just blew Kate off in the galley. She’s getting on his nerves. In Kevin’s interview, he says he wanted to finish on a high note. Frankly, I think Kevin would have done something like that to Kate in a heartbeat, and he’s just jealous that he didn’t think of anything that good. Or as appropriate.

Jemele emerges, and her friends tell her about how they were having a serious conversation with the captain at dinner, and in comes this huge d*ck. Jemele says, apparently, she missed out on something. They ask Kate for a side of balls.

Ashton radios Rhylee to meet him on deck. To herself, she says, on my way, pr*ck, but tells him, yes, sir. In Ashton’s interview, he says it’s their last night out, and he doesn’t want the same sh*t to happen. We flash back to their altercation in the market, and he says he wants to nip it in the bud. When Rhylee joins him, he hems and haws for a moment, and says it’s clear they have differences. He thinks it goes deeper than work. They’re two different people, and that’s okay. Who is he? Mr. Rogers? He tells her, it’s the end of the season, and he just wants to have a good night. She says she trusts in herself to hold herself accountable for her actions, and wants to end on an enjoyable night. He says they’re on the same page. In Rhylee’s interview, she says they have nothing to talk about. It’s their last night out, and she doesn’t give a f***.

The captain pulls anchor for the last time, and the boat heads out. Kate serves breakfast, which looks delicious. In Tanner’s interview, he says it’s their last night, and the odds are in his favor with Kate. It’s the fourth quarter, and they got it. Kevin has made custard buns, and wonders what to do with them, but Kate says, the last meal is over, and goes downstairs. Tanner says, someone has checked out, and Kevin says, someone checked out six weeks ago. In Kate’s interview, she says Kevin has made his fair share of large mistakes, and now he tried to embarrass her in front of the stews. He has two styles; a-hole and sleeping. The guests love the breakfast, and Kevin brings out the custard buns. Jemele says he looks like Tom Cruise. I’m not a fan, but I’d still say, maybe a poor man’s Tom Cruise. She says, about the cake… and apologizes for her absence. She heard he had an incredible d*ck, and he says he didn’t know she’d left. He thanks them, and says they’re his favorite charter this season. In his interview, he says, it’s such a relief to hear when you’re good at what you do. He made an amazing c*ck cake, and it was an amazing way to finish the charter.

Brain tells Courtney that she looks cute with her hair up. In her interview, she says, go away. Stop being cute. Honestly, maybe it’s me, but I don’t get the attraction that all the women seem to have for him. He has a bangin’ bod, but his face and personality is nothing to write home about. I’m not trying to be mean; I just don’t see it. The guests ask for a couple of bottles of champagne, and one of them says she’s living her best life. Kate gets the champagne, and they pop corks and shake the bottles out over the water. A+ for that. Sloppier guests would have just let it spray all over the deck. In Kate’s interview, she says Jemele was not her favorite at the beginning. She was the quintessential head mean cheerleader. But she realized she was wrong, and the grace to say it, and Kate respects that. It’s too bad the crew aren’t the same way. I think Kate’s personality is misunderstood because she’s not bubbly like a lot of the stews. Personally, I would find bubbly annoying, especially first thing in the morning.

The crew gets into their whites. Kate tells Tanner that he’s so cute. The guests pack, and Jemele says it’s going to take a month for her to recover. Anchor is dropped, and the captain scares Rhylee with the horn, which seems to be his things this season. Did the other boats not have one, or is he just getting bored? He calls everyone to the aft deck, and tells Kate that he’s savoring the last goodbye. Jemele says they thought everyone was amazing, and hopefully the tip reflects their value. They were all awesome. The guests leave, and Kate suggests they all jump off the boat right now.

Time for the tip meeting. Captain Lee says they made it. It’s the first time he didn’t need to terminate someone, and that says a lot. He tells them that they performed remarkably well. The tip is… $20K, or $1800 each. Yes! Finally. He says their total for the season was $154K; $7146 each. In Kate’s interview, she says, it’s a good amount of money; they made it through the gauntlet. It wasn’t an easy season, but the tips make working with Kevin almost worth it. The captain tells them, tonight, a full moon party on a private beach has been arranged for them. In her interview, Kate says she doesn’t know what a full moon party is, but it sounds like a rave on the beach with a full moon. She never paid attention to the moon when she was at a rave, and doesn’t know what to expect.

The boat is cleaned, and laundry folded. Kate calls Rhylee, asking her to come to the pantry. Kate pours champagne for the girls. She says, it’s like a friendship bracelet, but better. In her interview, she says she’s never had a season where it was guys versus girls. The girls became extra bonded because the guys were such a-holes. In Simone’s interview, she tells us that she has a lot of things to say to Kate, but she’s not doing it. She just wants to say goodbye. The guys jump off the boat, and have a beer on deck. Courtney doesn’t know if she has anything more to say to Brian. They’ve basically been avoiding each other, and she has nothing to say. They’re not getting back together, and will probably never see each other again. They’re friendly, but it’s just weird.

Everyone gets ready to go out. The guys have shots. Tanner says it’s his last night, and he knows he’s having fun. He’s ready to effing go. The crew gets on a tender, and heads for shore. Brain and Ashton talk bro stuff, and Courtney tells Kate  that she was in their way. The beach looks amazing; it’s all done up like some awesome, weird carnival. There are ladyboys and girls in practically nothing, fire dancers and fire eaters, a private cabana, lots of liquor, and giant letters of fire spelling out MY VALOR. In her interview, Kate says, it’s a reason to drink alcohol and make bad decisions in the dark. Simone gets on a tree swing. The fire eater/dancers put on a show, and a guy twirls sticks with fire on each end. Kevin jumps over some of the fire letters, and by some miracle, manages not to get hurt. On the boat, Captain Lee does some ironing.

Brian gazes at Courtney, and finally sits next to her. He says he doesn’t want to end things on a bad note. It’s a little awkward, but he had fun with her. The whole season was about her. He doesn’t know what to do, and asks what she wants to do. She says, about what? and he says, just leave it as it is? She says, okay, and he says he was asking a question. She tells him that he’s full of sh*t, and then kisses him. In her interview, she says she just wants to end the season nicely. Kate tells Rhylee, Brian unleashed his secret weapon; he took his shirt off. Tanner sits with them, and Kate says he’s a breath of fresh drunken air.

In Ashton’s interview, he says he wants no negative feelings or regrets. He’s going to be a good boy. Kate, Rhylee, Simone, and Kevin take a selfie. Kevin says they had a good run, and Kate says he was a pain in the ass sometimes. He says the big mess up was when she stopped caring. They could all feel it. She asks if he thinks she’s not a good chief stew, and he says he doesn’t. She says she thinks he’s not good yacht chef either. He’s just a baker. He says she doesn’t know all about food, and Tanner says Kevin did a great job. He tells Kate, sorry, and she asks what Kevin did that was phenomenal. Kevin says Kate has nothing to back it up, and Kate leaves. Tanner tells Kevin that he was trying to defend him. Rhylee tells Simone that she thinks Kate feels vulnerable, but Simone says she’ll think things are okay between them, and then Kate says something that’s a jab. Tanner, Kevin, and some unidentified guy have shots. On the boat, the captain picks up an empty Greygoose bottle and calls it a dead soldier.

Tanner stumbles around after Kate, who keeps changing location. Rhylee chants, get it, get it, get it. Tanner tells Kate that he’s wanted to kiss her all day. She says he’s an idiot. HA-HA-HA! She tells him that he said Kevin was right. It’s never going to happen; she’s a lesbian. She’s getting more lesbian by the second, the more he talks. She tells him, get over it, and leaves. In Simone’s interview, she says she doesn’t have to deal with this sh*t anymore; she’s happy. It’s amazing that she can now wash her hands clean, and get on with the rest of her life.

Kevin kicks sand at Kate as he goes by. She says he got sand in her eyes. Brian tells him to say he’s sorry, and Kevin says, eff off. It doesn’t matter what happens. Then the subtitles tell us that Kevin says, I walrahrahrah. Kate wakes up Ashton, and tells him they have to go. He rounds up everyone, and they get back in the tender. Brian says this was the best experience of his life, and Kate says, except for the sand in her face. He tells her not to worry, and she asks if he’s sh*tting her. In his interview, Brian says, even though Kate is who she is, you don’t kick sand in someone’s face. He still thinks Kate is overeating. It’s what she does best.

When they get to the dock, Kate gives them the finger, says, eff off, and jets back to the Valor. Kevin tries to run on the dock, and Ashton stops him. When they get inside, Ashton tells Kevin that he has to cook now, and he also has a whole beach on his ass. Kate gives the camera the finger before she closes her cabin door. We see Kevin’s naked butt, which I never want to see again. He wraps his nakey self in a towel, and Ashton tells him, go to bed. I’m not quite sure what Kevin does under that towel, but I think it has something to do with a sparkler, since Brian says he’s going out with a bang, and they all die laughing. Tanner says, Jiminy Cricket, and Courtney leads Brian to the guest room.

It’s the final day. Tanner says he’s staying drunk so he doesn’t get a hangover. He’s still wasted. Kevin smiles at Kate, and she asks, why? He says he’s happy they’re getting off the boat. She says he kicked sand in her eye, but he insists he didn’t. She says, he did, and in his interview, he says he doesn’t remember doing it, but if he did, it was for a reason. She called him a sh*tty yacht chef. Tanner tries to get information out of Brian, who won’t kiss and tell. In his interview, he tells us to use our imagination. Kate tells Rhylee that Kevin didn’t bother to apologize. In Simone’s interview, she says Tanner is a child, and that’s a problem, but she might call him in the future. Not like that, but possibly platonic. She thinks saying goodbye to Kate is disingenuous. She did learn a valuable lesson; to be self-reliant. She wants to continue in yachting, and get more experience. Tanner asks if Kate wants a quickie, but she says, no. In his interview, Tanner says it makes him stay humble. In Kate’s interview, she says she doesn’t regret that they didn’t hook up, but if they’re ever in the same zip code, it’s a sure thing. Tanner tells Captain Lee, it’s the best job he ever had, and the captain tells him, be safe. Tanner says he’ll see them on the flipside.

Ashton tells Brian, it worked out nicely. Brian says, the drama washed away. Courtney is a cool chick, and he’s going to miss her. Ashton says, well done, bru, which is now like nails on a blackboard to me. Brian thanks Courtney for being so amazing. In her interview, Courtney says, saying goodbye to Brian is bittersweet. They had an easy friendship. When she gets back home, she wants to go out to a nice dinner that’s not pad Thai. She stops to play with a dog on the dock. Kevin thanks Captain Lee, who says he did an outstanding job. In his interview, Kevin says he knows where he wants to be now. He’s ready to go home to his daughter, take her on holiday, and go back to cooking food. He says, there are only so many fake apologies he can give to Kate. He walks out without saying goodbye. Kate says, goodbye, Thailand. It’s over. It’s the final straw.

Kate calls out, bye, Kevin. See you never. She tells Rhylee, Kevin didn’t even say goodbye, and Rhylee says, he’s a pr*ck. These people are a-holes. In Brian’s interview, he says it’s been a roller coaster ride, but in the end, he pulled through. He’s staying in yachting, and eventually becoming a captain. When he sees his daughter, he can relax. Rhylee says, seeing Ashton is going to be awkward, and Kate tells her, be civil; it’s over. Rhylee says, one day you’ll be a great bosun? but Kate says, that’s not civil. She tells Rhylee, no matter what anyone says, she’s a great asset. In Rhylee’s interview, she says she doesn’t know if it’s the yachting world, or it’s her in the yachting world, but she’s thankful for Kate. Without Kate in her corner, she might not have stuck it through. She says goodbye to Captain Lee, and tells Ashton, it’s that time. In her interview, she says she’s not disappointed in her behavior. She showed reserve, and she’s proud of it. She tells Ashton that she appreciates him tolerating her, and he says, all the best. In Rhylee’s interview, she says she’s going to keep yachting in her back pocket, but right now she’s going back to Alaska and a fishing charter. She’s going to slay it, and not think twice about Ashton.

Kate guzzles a beer in the galley. In Ashton’s interview, he says he and Kate are leaving on good terms. They had two big fights, and he thinks she crossed department boundaries. She disrespected him, and he’s disappointed in the situation. He’s glad to say goodbye. In Kate’s interview, she says their goodbye was like their other interactions during the season; civil, but fake. Ashton tells Captain Lee, it’s been quite a year, and the captain compliments Ashton’s nice farmer tan, saying he has to even that sh*t out. Ashton thanks him for the bosun position, and guiding him through it. Captain Lee says Ashton had to grow, and he grew a lot. In his interview, Ashton says it was his first season as bosun, and he learned a lot. The captain tells him, no sailor ever learned anything in calm seas. In his interview, Ashton says there were things he could have handled better, but he learned he’s capable. He’s going to spend some time with Ross in Florida, then join a crew with no redheads.

Kate and Captain Lee hug. She tells him, chalk up another one. They made it again. She’s going to miss the boat. She says she’ll see him around Florida. He says, it’s been a slice, and she says, always is. In Kate’s interview, she says, it was a personally challenging season. She’s going to spend a week alone at a resort, then head back to Florida, pack up her life, and move to New York. She’s scared to move there, but she was scared to start yachting. She needs a new adventure.

Captain Lee says, he doesn’t know what it is about Thailand, but he still has best goddam job in the world.

Next time, the Reunion, and it looks like a doozie. Otherwise, I’d be completely bummed this season is over.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Captain Glenn of the Parsifal III, explained that he, deckhand Paget, and stew Ciara were a core family, and he’d brought Paget and Ciara in during the off-season. In her interview, Ciara said she and Paget had been friends, moved in together to save money, and then decided to date. Ciara never went to a conventional school, and grew up on a sailboat. While she’s technically a stew, Captain Glenn decided to put her on deck. Since she and Paget have never worked in the same department, this should prove interesting, as well as a test of their relationship. Chef Adam – a transfer from Below Deck Mediterranean – told us he’s spent a solid year driving around in a van with his dog, and cooking over an open flame. His jam is focusing on food and being single, and he assured us that he was still the same a-hole, d*ckhead (his words). Jenna, the chief stew from Canada, said she came up like a Navy SEAL, has high standards, and expects everything should be perfect. Second stew Madison told us that she was made for yachting, and is like the Energizer Bunny, living on candy and caffeine. She tries not to overwhelm people with her energy. She had been a competitive figure skater, and said she’d transferred her work ethic to sailing. Georgia is the third stew from South Africa, but said her British mother gave her and her siblings fake British accents. She gets more British when she drinks, and becomes the Queen of England by midnight. Chief engineer Byron (love that name!) is married with a young daughter, and finally, deckhand Parker said he grew up sailing, and was confident on smaller boats. This is his dream job.

In a first meeting, Jenna told the stews that she’s forward and direct, but not a bitch, which remains to be seen. She said she didn’t mind the stews having opinions, but didn’t want to be challenged, telling them, give it a few days. In her interview, she said she didn’t expect to be a mom, and her primary focus was on the guests, not whether the crew feels happy or loved. Adam remarked that the boat had been sitting on the dock too long, and looked like Ciara and Paget’s apartment. I don’t know what their apartment looks like, but if the boat is any indication, they’re both bad at housekeeping.

Captain Glenn told the crew that he’s laid back, and likes the crew to run their own departments. If anyone had a problem, they were to go to the department head first before going to him. In Adam’s interview, he said it was a welcome change, since he’d been under Captain Sandy’s thumb on Below Deck Med, and we flashed back to some of that. The captain added that he was also hands-on when it came to pitching in with work, but didn’t like fixing things in front of guests. Jenna made it clear that she was looking for attention to detail. If the a stew is paying attention, she knows she can trust them. In Georgia’s interview, she said she was never properly trained, but would love to have someone tell her if she’s doing it right.

During the preference sheet meeting, the captain told Paget, Jenna, and Adam that their first guests would be Alan and Jennifer. Alan had been a high level software engineer at Apple before retiring. Their daughter and friend Peyton would also be joining them, as well as friends Guy and Alessia, who were getting married just before the trip. They were looking to do some adventurous activities, and sailing. I guess they’re in the right place for the latter. Jenna said the boat looked like it had been boarded by pirates, and there were trash bags everywhere. In his interview, Paget said he didn’t want Ciara and himself to be that couple cuddling in the corner. Madison told Jenna about her five drunk tattoos, and in her interview, said she tries to be responsible when she’s drunk by keeping the tattoos to areas not normally seen. Then she pulled out her lower lip to show us MEOW inside, and said she didn’t like cats. I’m not even sure what to say about that. Everyone agreed the boat was a sh*t show, but somehow managed to get it cleaned up, and got on their green polos for greeting the guests.

Everyone counted only four people coming up the boardwalk, and Guy said their friends had been delayed, but were taking a plane in from Athens. It was the same routine as on a regular yacht, with the guests being greeted with warm towels and champagne, and the chief stew giving a tour. The boat is gorgeous, but of course, not as palatial as the motor yachts. Captain Glenn did enlighten us that sailboats have motors, without which it would be difficult to get in and out of port. The captain was impressed at how easily they got off the dock, but said the true test would be when they set the sails up. And unlike a motor yacht, everything loose has to be secured.

While Adam was anxious to cook Greek food, all of the preference sheets listed sushi, so he decided to go with that for the first meal. He wanted to get the job right. The dining area décor was really pretty, but for some reason, it reminded me of funeral home. The guests were happy with the sushi, as I would have been – it looked fabulous. Jenna told Adam that he wasn’t just a pretty face. He told us the galley was a fraction of the size of a motor yacht galley, and any nook or cranny was like gold. It’s like everything was cut in half. Right out of the gate, the hot tub was reading 75*, but the water was still cold. In his interview, Paget said if anything was wrong, it was on him, but he couldn’t figure it out. Byron came to the rescue, telling him, the heater switch has to be turned on. I would have laughed, but I’ve had those moments of stupidity myself. In Jenna’s interview, she said nothing was prepared, but she had to have her stew face on, hands behind her back, looking proper. After arriving at Miko Nisi in Corfu (Greece), there was some difficulty taking the sails back down, but Captain Glenn said they’d wait until the guests were off the boat to fix it. Apparently, it’s difficult to get the sails down, since they have to fold perfectly into something called a donkey d*ck – hey, I didn’t name it – which looked sort of like a gutter.

Jenna told Adam that she’d been engaged once, and he said he had been engaged once too. She asked what happened, and he said, yachting. In her interview, Jenna said her past ten relationships had been unhealthy ones. She always goes for the wrong people, and wanted to find her person. It didn’t take long before there was a major problem – no steak knives on board. Damn. Even I have steak knives. Adam said serving steak with improper cutlery in a fine dining scenario was the worst of the worst.

Alessia and Guy arrived by tender, and told everyone that they’d missed their own wedding because they never got to Vegas. In Jenna’s interview, she says she’s not the one getting married, but the person who is going to get screwed is her. Guy asked if the captain couldn’t marry them, and did he have an Elvis outfit.

This season, Madison says the sh*t is going to hit fan while they’re sailing, horrible guests, Adam and Jenna hook up (!), Jenna is told she has an attitude problem, someone (it looks like Parker) is on thin ice, and Parker asks if Paget thinks it’s funny that he’s still being breastfed. What? Please tell me that was the TV equivalent of clickbait.

⚖️ I don’t know if I’m going to love this show the way I do the others – the OG Below Deck being my forever favorite. This captain is a little too laid back for me, but the close quarters should make for some interesting drama, and the clip of those horrible guests was intriguing. In other words, the jury is still out.

General Hospital

We see everyone gathering on the tenth floor at the hospital. Scotty wonders who didn’t get an invite. Alexis asks if he’s ready. He doesn’t think he’ll ever be ready, but tells her, carry on. Alexis thanks everyone for coming to honor the final wishes of their beloved Gail Baldwin. She hands out envelopes, saying they each contain a piece of the original blueprint of GH as it was when it opened. Her instructions are to go to the location, and find an envelope with their name on it. Bring it back to the tenth floor, intact. Scotty says, no peeking. Monica says, the hospital has changed a lot. Some of the spaces are gone or there’s something else there. Leslie asks if she’s not up to the challenge, and Monica says, watch her. Maxie loves a scavenger hunt, and Lucy loves a mysterious envelope. Alexis says if they didn’t have the privilege of knowing Gail, they were invited with a special privilege. Bobbie asks what if they can’t find their envelope? Alexis says it’s important that they do. Scotty says he was in the habit of not listening to Gail, and every time he didn’t, it was a disaster. So he’s going to listen one last time while he has the privilege (WOTD) of doing so. Everyone holds up their envelopes, and says, for Gail.

Monica and Leslie both look in the locker room. Leslie says, of course Gail would put them in the same place. Monica says, the old cafeteria, where Leslie interrupted her lunches. Leslie says, it’s nice that they’ve matured. She finds her envelope, and says, hello stranger. Monica says, Gail used to say that all the time, and Leslie adds, even if she saw you the day before. Monica asks if Leslie has seen her envelope, and Leslie says, if she had, she wouldn’t tell her. Monica says, it’s a moot point. She’s found it in the shower. Leslie asks if it’s true the showers are co-ed now, and Monica tells her, welcome to the 21st century. Leslie says, imagine if they’d had them back in the day. Monica would have never left the locker room. No man was safe. Monica says, at least she lived a little. Leslie was busy being a saintly earth mother. Leslie says, it was better than being a slut. Monica asks what Leslie called her, but Leslie says she heard.

Bobbie looks at old pictures on the wall. Felicia expected her envelope to be waiting there, and Bobbie says, her too. Felicia says she misses BJ, but still feels thankful every day for the gift Bobbie gave Maxie. Bobbie says, it was Tony. She couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that BJ was gone, but he knew what had to be done. Felicia says, two little girls could have died that day, but one survived because of the hospital. Bobbie adds, and everyone in it.

Curtis tells Stella that maybe he’s making too much of Jordan going to Mercy. Stella says, at GH it’s the people. Their warmth and heart make the hospital extraordinary.

Laura asks Scotty how the envelope hunt is going. He can’t figure it out, and just wants to get it right for Gail’s sake. Laura asks if she can help him, and he says she smiles like she did when she was seventeen. He says if Gail hadn’t gotten him out of Greenwich Village, he would have never met her. They would never have had all that history. Laura finds his envelope, and he says it’s lucky they stayed friends. Laura says, very lucky. Scotty asks what she thinks is in the envelope, and she asks what he wants it to be. He says advice on how he’s going to continue on without Lee and Gail.

Franco sees Scotty, and says he’s sorry he didn’t let him know what was going on. He asked Scotty to defend the indefensible with no warning or explanation. Scotty says it was not his greatest day in court. Franco says to add insult to injury, he didn’t even reach out when Gail died. He never met her. He’s a terrible son; expecting the benefits of Scotty’s expertise, and the unending joy of his support. In response, he’s made no effort. Scotty says Franco just described him; how he treated his father. Gail to a lesser degree. He felt they’d always be there, and he didn’t have to put time in. He gets it now. It’s tough with the shoe being on the other foot. Now Franco has a kid going through some stuff, and he’s out of the loop. Kids should spend time with their parents. He gets it. Franco apologizes, and Scotty says he doesn’t hold it against Franco. He knows Franco is going through some crazy stuff; some legit, some not, but he’d never turn his back. Parents don’t do that. Lee would give him a stiff talking to. Franco says, and Gail? Scotty says, she was a little nicer, more accepting. He’s not like that, but Franco is his son, and he loves him. Because of him, he knows what his parents went through, and how much they loved him. He hugs Franco.

Julian tells Alexis that he didn’t know Gail. She says Franco didn’t either, but Julian says Franco is her grandson. Alexis says she had the privilege of being Gail’s lawyer for five years. She was a wonderful woman. Julian realizes she must have told Gail about them and she says she may have brought it up now and then. However misguided, she thinks Gail included him for her. She’s sure Gail’s intentions were good. She didn’t make clear it was over. Done, finé; forever and ever, amen. Julian backs her toward the wall, and she asks what he’s doing. He says he’s thinking maybe Gail was insightful. Maybe she knew Alexis better than she knows herself. He walks past her, and down the stairs.

Monica finds Lucy looking through her old Nurses’ Ball clothes. She asks what Lucy is doing, and Lucy says she was following the blueprint to where she had her old Nurses’ Ball dresses delivered. She has a fantastic idea. She wants to sell all of them, and donate the proceeds to the Ball. She finds a hankie with initials on it, and says, Alan could rock a pocket square. Monica says, he had panache. She asks if Lucy remembers when he opened the ball with a song from Cinderella. He made every woman feel like a beautiful princess. Lucy says Monica was always his queen. She was greedy, young, and stupid. She’s sorry. Monica says, don’t be. She’s not selling that, is she? Lucy shakes her head, and says it belongs to Monica. Lucy gives it to her, and I’m getting misty.

Sonny sees Laura in the chapel. He asks if she’s thinking about Gail. She says, yes, and life. She asks if he remembers the first time they met. He laughs, and says, yeah. She thought he was trouble with a capital T, but she could also sense a generous heart and an inner sweetness. Sonny asks if it might have been the dimples, and she says, a little, but she thinks it was just him. He’s a good guy in a bad guy’s clothes. He appreciates that. They’ve come pretty far despite the struggles and losses. Sonny appreciates her shining light on healthcare. She says he’s a big part of it. Watching him and his openness about his bi-polar illness. His honesty and experience gave her the strength to do the same. To show the world that mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. It should be examined and dealt with, and it’s done every day there. Sonny says, thank God for General Hospital, and she says they’re in the perfect place to do that.

Max tells Maxie that he’s positive the vending machine used to be there. She agrees, saying he used to get peanut crackers that were probably there since the 1950s. She thanks him for being there for her after her heart operation. He could have refused to get the scar removed, but he says it was important to her. She says, now, she might do it different, but back then, she wanted to be normal, and not known as the heart transplant girl. Max says she’s way too spectacular to qualify as normal. He tells her that she’s wrong, and she says, be specific. He says if anyone told him that he’d find his greatest happiness in being a suburban dad, he’d have told them they were crazy. It took him a while to embrace it, but he’s never regretted it. He’s not judging, but the other guys don’t know what they’re missing. Felicia joins them.

Bobbie asks if Elizabeth is having any luck. Elizabeth says, no, and asks if this isn’t the old medical supply room? Where they had the metal cabinets with glass doors. Bobbie says those were long gone before Elizabeth became a nurse. Elizabeth says her mom isn’t the only reason she became nurse. It was also because of Bobbie. The night Lucky found her after she was raped, he called her. She was so gentle and kind. She knew what to say, and made her feel like she had control. Bobbie says she was so brave, and Elizabeth says she made an impact. Bobbie says she’s an excellent nurse, and she’s proud to have played a small part in that. They hug, and Bobbie finds Elizabeth’s envelope.

Sonny sees the plaque dedicated to Stone. He pauses in front of it, and smiles.

Curtis hopes Laura doesn’t mind, but a nurse saw her in the chapel, and he wanted to think her for not sidelining Jordan’s confidence in doing her job. Being commissioner means the world to her. Laura can see that, and her confidence is warranted. Her illness hasn’t slowed her down. She’s a strong woman, with a great support system, and a pretty good husband. He’s like, what? then laughs.

Carly sees Bobbie at the pediatric center dedicated to Michael, and tells Bobbie that she’s pregnant. She says they’re surprised and happy, and Bobbie is probably freaking out. Bobbie congratulates her, and asks what the doctor said. Carly says to be super careful about her stress and monitor her blood pressure. If the risk is above 50%, she may have to terminate. Sonny would say definitely. Bobbie asks what she says, and Carly tells her it will be her and Sonny’s second baby. Bobbie says it brings up Morgan, and Carly says she doesn’t want go there, but Bobbie says she can’t live her life in fear. Carly realizes that, but not knowing is a blessing. She’s grateful that she didn’t know the future for Morgan would be cut short, but it’s better than not having time at all. That’s how Bobbie feels about BJ. She tells Carly she has to be responsible, and Carly says, so far so good. Sonny joins them. Bobbie congratulates him, and says if there’s one thing she’s learned at the hospital, it’s that even if you can’t count on miracles, they do happen.

Bobbie asks how Scotty is holding up. He doesn’t know if he wants it to end. The Gail business is still keeping her alive. Bobbie says she’s alive in their minds and hearts. It’s a day for remembering. They’re still there after all this time; the redheaded nurse and the handsome boy next door. If she knew then what would happen, she wouldn’t change anything. Scotty says he would, but wouldn’t change that they’re still friends. They hug.

Doc tells Lucy that he’s completely lost. She looks at his blueprint, and he says she doesn’t have to do that. She says she’s helping a friend, and he says it’s better than he deserves. She says she’ll always stand by him. He says he doesn’t want to give her hope for something that’s not going to happen. He loves Laura, but wants her know that it wasn’t a mistake. Just because it doesn’t last, doesn’t mean it wasn’t meant to be. There’s a world full of beautiful things that don’t last. That makes it more special. She tells him that if he’s going to make her expensive mascara run, he’s going to be in trouble. She thinks she knows where he’s supposed to be, and takes his hand.

Leslie says Gail put them together on purpose, and Monica says, the reality is, there are more things that bind them than separate them. Leslie says even when she couldn’t stand Monica, she admired her. Monica feels the same, and says, it’s ironic. She thinks about all the yelling, crying, and hair pulling. Meanwhile they wound up with the men they were supposed to be with. Leslie says, too bad they didn’t think about that earlier. They could have saved the drama. Monica thinks Leslie likes drama, and Leslie says, maybe a little. Monica says they can look back, and smile.

Lucy leads Doc to the chapel, where Laura still is. Lucy sees his envelope, and gives it to him, saying, this is where he’s meant to be. She leaves, and Doc and Laura look at each other.

Doc asks how Laura is, and she says, okay. He misses her. She misses him too. He hates how he ruined this for them, but she says he didn’t; not completely. He says they’ll always have Paris, and she says she’ll always have his proposal, and how he tricked her into putting on that dress. It’s one of the best moments of her life, and it was with him. She’ll never forget it, no matter what happens. He says, no matter what happens, he’ll never forget she said yes. Leslie walks in, but says she’ll come back. Laura tells her, it’s okay. She tells Doc that she’s glad he’s safe. He leaves, and Leslie asks if she’s all right. Laura says, she will be, and they hug.

Lucy tells Scotty that she talked to Serena. She wanted to hear the end of Gail’s will reading, but the connection was horrible. Scotty says they should have had a love story like Lee and Gail. Lucy says they never seemed to get the timing right. They look out, and see Doc. Scotty says, it’s so complicated.

Laura asks how Leslie is doing with Gail’s death. She says, it feels different being with everyone. She thought it would be worse; too many memories, but it turned out to be the exact opposite. Laura says she was remembering when she was a candy striper. She was so proud that her mother was a doctor there. She was fortunate to have a role model like Leslie. Not that she followed her example. Leslie says Laura is her wonderful, compassionate, tempestuous daughter. She’ll always do things her way, but Leslie loves that about her, and couldn’t be any prouder. Laura thanks her, and they hug.

Epiphany asks Elizabeth how the envelope hunt is going, and Elizabeth says she found hers. Epiphany says, what a trip. Elizabeth says she was talking to Bobbie about her being an inspiration for her becoming a nurse, but Epiphany taught her how to be one. She leads by example every day. She advocates for the patients, doesn’t tolerate whining, and understands human flaws. Epiphany says she takes the most pride in teaching those eager to learn, who don’t think the know everything and criticize them. That’s Elizabeth. She’s receptive, works hard, and is always contributing. They’re a team. Elizabeth says she doesn’t always say it, but she couldn’t ask for a better colleague or friend.

Alexis asks for everyone’s attention. At Gail’s request, they’re to open their envelopes on the count of three. They open the envelopes, and inside is glitter. Franco throws his in the air, and puts his arm around Scotty.

Alexis reads a letter from Gail, asking them to forgive her last indulgence. As they’ve figured out, there’s nothing to find. She thanks Alexis for planting the envelopes, and says they’re probably wondering why they’re there. Why she orchestrated this wild goose chase. The answer is simple. She wanted to bring them back to a time they were together. She tells them to cheer each other on as they carry the work forward. They couldn’t ask for a better place or better friends. There are amazing times to come, and she asks them to cherish them, as she cherishes them.

We see flashbacks of everyone from the past, and all the moments they talked about. Yep, they did it now, and I was holding it together through the whole show. A song plays about wishing the clock could be slowed down because memories aren’t enough.

Everyone slowly goes back to work. Lucy hugs Scotty. Alexis leaves. We see…

Happy 56th Anniversary

and I feel a little old.

Tomorrow, Oscar wants to give Josslyn something more, Sonny asks if Michael has an exit plan, Jason tells Sam that Shiloh doesn’t go near Danny again, and Shiloh tells Kristina that once she’s in the Trust, there’s no turning back.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Denise and Aaron check out their wedding gifts. They’ve decided to postpone the honeymoon, since they both have too much going on. Denise can’t believe they put it together. We flash back to how late she was. In her interview, she says the difference between this wedding and her wedding to Charlie, is that her and Charlie’s wedding album was done the day she filed for divorce. At least they made it to opening the gifts. She tells Aaron, Lola said she was so happy. She feels like now they have a family. We see a clip of that. Aaron says he was nervous to get their approval. In Denise’s interview, she’s amazed at how well Aaron has done with the kids. He’s nurturing and present. She tells him, in one day he became a husband and stepfather. When he adopts Lola, he’ll be a dad too. Add water, and he has an instant family.

At Vanderpump Dogs, filming is happening. Giggy! TV producer Simon is there for the Puppy Bowl.  In LVP’s interview, she explains what the Puppy Bowl is, and that the rescue center was chosen to compete. Pup Violet is going to be playing, and it’s huge for them. Simon films LVP talking about the rescue center. She says they’re crazy about dogs, but wanted to create an environment that’s people friendly as well. She says the Puppy Bowl will be fun, but it will also help the dogs get adopted. That’s why Violet his helping out, and not Giggy. Giggy also had a problem with his heart (my heart!). We see a clip of the vet telling LVP that Giggy’s heart has aged faster than he has. LVP says he’s doing better. They’ve also gotten involved with getting a resolution to congress condemning the dog meat trade. It’s their first political step to stop it all over the world. it’s going to be streaming online tomorrow. In her interview, LVP thinks Teddi is a complete and utter bitch, but she’s done a couple of fundraisers, and every penny helps. There’s supposed to be one tomorrow, and LVP hopes Teddi goes ahead with it.

Teddi asks Edwin if he’s coming to the fundraiser. Normally, a spin class is twenty bucks, and the donate 60% of the proceeds. Edwin says, it’s a win-win for everyone. Teddi is uncomfortable, but she made the commitment. If LVP shows up, okay; and if not, okay. Before the dog situation, she’d partnered with Vanderpump Dogs, and it was so successful, they did two back to back. Just because they have issues doesn’t mean she’s not staying true to her commitment. She calls Dorit, and asks how it’s going. Dorit says, not good, and asks if Teddi saw the article in Radar Online. Teddi says someone sent it to her. Dorit thinks LVP is behind it, and doesn’t get it. She just saw her at the wedding. Teddi asks if LVP brought anything up at the wedding, but Dorit says, nothing. In Dorit’s interview, she says it’s hard to tell if everything is fine, but LVP’s actions are showing her it’s not fine. Teddi asks if LVP has called her, and Dorit says, no. Teddi says, it goes from one level to the next. Bringing her into it, bringing Kyle into it, and now bringing the press into it. We see a clip of Dorit telling PK that people’s perceptions are what they believe and read. If that’s true, people need to get off the internet. Teddi asks, when does it stop? She hasn’t heard from LVP regarding the fundraiser. The last time, John Blizzard came. Dorit says they’ll talk about it then.

At the CycleHouse fundraiser, Teddi wonders where LVP is. The biggest thing for charities is outreach, and she needs to show up. She’s surprised John Blizzard isn’t there, since she planned it with him. We see a clip of that. Lyndsey from Vanderpump Dogs shows up, and Teddi says, luckily, someone came, even if she doesn’t recognize them. She hasn’t heard from LVP. The other ladies trickle in, and everyone has snacks. Shouldn’t that be for after? LisaR caresses Erika’s handbag. She’s upset about the article, and asks if anyone knows who leaked it. Erika wonders, why humiliate Dorit? Teddi thinks it’s surprising that LVP isn’t there; it’s her own charity. LisaR says it’s hard to understand. Teddi says it’s a couple of minutes to go time.

At Vanderpump Dogs, LVP talks to Congressman Alcee Hastings, the Representative from Florida. He’s a huge animal rights supporter. He tells her the vote will be on at 5:40 tonight, and they’ll speak afterward. In LVP’s interview, she says the first the Congressman heard about the issue was through their endeavors. They called attention to it. We see a clip from LVP’s Dog Day. He contacted them, and said he hopes it passes if brought to the floor.

Kyle shows up last. LisaR wipes down her bike, saying it’s an OCD moment. There aren’t only germs, but sweaty germs. Kyle has no idea how to do this. The instructor says they’re doin’ it for the puppies. Class starts, and she screams at them. In Erika’s interview, she says, spin is aggressive. It keeps getting faster and harder, but she’s not letting these bitches see her suffer. In Denise’s interview, she says she does Pilates, but this is different, and the class is kicking her ass. At the end, the instructor says they made it, and gives a shout out to Teddi. Teddi thanks everyone. She’s grateful for her husband and friends supporting her. She says, regardless of the circumstances, real friends show up. I’m guessing she’s referring to LVP, but it’s not like they’re friends. Everyone has more snacks.

Teddi thanks the ladies, and tells them that they look great. They head out to Fig & Olive for lunch. Teddi says John was supposed to be there at 10 am, but at 10:10, on no one was there. Finally, they came at 10:30, but it was no one she’d met before. In her interview, she’s not surprised. If anyone confronted the employees, they’d have to lie. LVP lying is one thing, but forcing her staff to lie is another. Kyle says LVP had another event. She called last night and invited her to come afterwards. LisaR says she had something at the same time? and Kyle says it’s from 11 to 5, but she told LVP she’d committed to lunch. Denise wonders why LVP couldn’t come there first, but Kyle has no idea. Teddi says, Vanderpump Dogs is five minutes away. She could have shown up. LisaR says LVP is clever, and does a (bad) imitation of her saying she can’t possibly show up. She had another event.

Vanderpump Dogs isn’t getting a signal, and LVP says John (Blizzard) can’t do anything right. The TV says No Signal! like mine does when I use the wrong input; like it’s shouting at you. The other John (Sessa) fixes it. LVP tells JohnB to go pick up poops. They watch Congress do not much. Ken and Pandora arrive. The resolution urges all nations to outlaw the dog meat trade. LVP gets a special thanks. In her interview, LVP says, it’s a great gift and achievement. The vote happens, but no one is quite sure if it passed. JohnS calls their contact, and asks, what happened? He feels like an idiot, and so do I, since I didn’t understand it either. They find out it passed. LVP cries, and thanks everyone. Ken pops champagne, and it goes everywhere. LVP says, the US is on board to ban the dog meat trade. In LVP’s interview, she says it’s been them, shouting from the rooftops, walking the pavement. It’s an emotional moment, knowing it’s being acknowledged.

Dorit says she woke up to the Radar Online article about the dog situation. She knows LVP fed them the story. She asks if Kyle read it, and Kyle says she saw it everywhere. Dorit says, they’re not just her words; it’s the way she wants the world to perceive the situation. Kyle says she’s not there to defend herself, but LisaR says, she chose not to be there. Erika says, it’s indefensible behavior. In her interview, LisaR says Kyle struggles with doing the right thing and what LVP wants her to do. She thinks it’s a weird relationship. Kyle is very conflicted. Dorit says, even the verbiage she used; she knows LVP leaked it. In Erika’s interview, she says LVP most definitely manipulated the truth. Less than ten people knew about it. Now it’s out there. LisaR says LVP knows how to work it. In her interview, she says LVP told her how to plant a story. She told LisaR if she ever had trouble with the press and needed to leak her story, to call this person. She clearly knows how do it. Denise asks Kyle if she’s known LVP leak things before. Kyle says, everyone has done things like that, and like a prosecuting attorney, Dorit says, answer the question. Kyle says she has no proof or knowledge, since she doesn’t have a connection there. She doesn’t know. Dorit asks if she has in the past, and Kyle says, yes. In her interview, Kyle says she can’t say it’s never happened when LVP has been accused of it in the past. We flash back to an old reunion, when Adrienne Maloof accused her of leaking a story. Kyle wishes she could say it’s not true, but she can’t.

The waiter comes. Kyle asks if Dorit has talked to LVP since the article came out, and Dorit says why would she? She’ll just hear her lie and deny it. Kyle says, if she did it, it’s because she wants people to take her side. It’s basically between Dorit and LVP, and LVP doesn’t want to look bad. It’s her way of getting in front of it. Dorit says she’s not letting LVP peddle an untruth. Kyle says she’s going through a hard time. Teddi asks, when Kyle has a hard time, does she hurt people? Teddi thinks maybe Kyle can talk to LVP. In Kyle’s interview, she says she still cares and loves LVP as a friend, but she’s not there to speak up for herself.

JohnS says they’re crazy dog rescuers, but he loves it. JohnB asks LVP if he can text about it, and she says this is one time he can go rogue. LVP tells JohnS that she hates the negative talk around the center. Teddi is wrong, and they hammered her in the Bahamas. We flash back to that. JohnS wishes he could come for them, but she says what he did was good enough. It would have looked petty for them to cancel the fundraiser.

Denise knows it’s hard to believe, but she’s had bad press. She says the truth comes out over time; screw all this. At the end of the day, who gives a sh*t? In her interview, Denise says when there were negative things written about her, it was hard to have a thick skin, but the best defense is to say nothing. She gets that Dorit needs to protect her family though. Teddi says when it’s about an animal, the amount of people come at you and attack is beyond. Dorit says she lies awake, thinking someone will hurt her kids. She cries, and I think she can be Babydoll II. She says she’s scared. She’s getting messages. In her interview, Dorit says the article exposed her and her family in a vulnerable way. There have been comments that her children deserve to be bitten. Kyle says, it’s hard when you care about someone. Erika says, it’s disappointing.

Kyle visits her friend Sharon. She’s bringing a dress for Teddi to use in a photo shoot. Kyle points out that one of Sharon’s dogs is wearing a diaper, and Sharon says he will if he wants to live there. In Kyle’s interview, she says she met Sharon when she was dating Mauricio, and they both adopted dogs from the same litter, so it makes them related. Teddi arrives, and Kyle shows them jewelry she’s having duplicated. Some of the pieces are the ones her mom gave her that were burglarized. In her interview, she says she can’t replace what her mom left her. When she was growing up, her mom wore cocktail rings. Sharon is an incredibly talented in jewelry making, and she’s going to recreate the rings. Kyle says she was going over their conversation from yesterday. In Kyle’s interview, she says after the lunch, LVP went to TMZ, defending Dorit, but hasn’t said one word to Dorit. Teddi says LVP claims she fixed it up last night. Kyle wonders how you don’t have time to reach out to friend if you’re concerned, and not just for yourself. Kyle says she’s going to talk to LVP, saying she loves her, but this is the situation. She’s in a weird position. It feels weird being honest because cares about LVP.

Harry shows LisaR his food selections for camping. He just got back from mountain climbing in Canada, and he’s going back. He tells LisaR, you just add boiling water. She wonders why it works between them; they’re so opposite. She says how about Denise getting married in two days? She called on Wednesday, and the wedding was Saturday. She tells Harry that he and Aaron have Nicolette Sheridan in common. He says it’s enough to have in common, and asks what else? She says, there’s a situation with the women about a dog rescue. She explains about the two Johns, Kyle, Teddi, and Dorit, but Harry probably stopped listening when she said, situation with the women. She says it’s like a soap opera. Harry tells her, think of the drama as propaganda. It’s used to drive a wedge in to stabilize the group, so the person creating the drama can take over. In her interview, LisaR calls LVP, Lisa Vandertrump. Please. First of all, doesn’t Harry mean polarize the group? And yes, I know I think LVP can do no wrong, but in reality, Dorit screwed up, tried to get over, and Teddi is the one who made a big deal out of it. Even if she was being baited, she could have just dropped out and ignored the whole thing. I get why she might want to talk to Dorit, but there was no reason for her to involve everyone. It was only then when LVP started defending herself. Harry is testing out his tent. He says, mosquitoes can’t get in, but bears can. LisaR wonders, why do this? and he says he’s not in the bear’s food chain. They both get in the tent, She finds a dead mosquito, and says he couldn’t get her to do this. Maybe if she was medicated.

Kyle drives to LVP’s house. In her interview, she says she’s dreading it. In the past, she’s defended LVP, no matter what. We flash back to some of that. She says, this time it’s different. As difficult as it is, she has to be honest, and knows LVP will be upset. If she looks at how she’s raising her daughters, she’d tell them to defend what’s right. That’s what she’s doing, and it’s going to be absolute torture.

Kyle lets herself in, and congratulates LVP on the bill passing. LVP says she’s so excited. In Kyle’s interview, she says she’s been dreading this moment, but she has to have this conversation. It runs the risk of hurting their friendship, and she doesn’t want to do that. She tells LVP about lunch, and says the Radar Online thing came up, and Dorit was really upset. The article sounds like it comes from LVP’s camp. LVP only knows that she talked to TMZ when they came to the center. She put herself on the line. Kyle says LVP always told her to look for who benefits from a story, and it’s bad for Dorit. She said activists are coming after her. Kyle says she’s in a bad position as LVP’s friend. Ken (Giggy!) tells her to say it’s not true; it’s not. LVP says Kyle thinks she would leak a story, then give another one refuting the first one? Kyle tells her, that’s what everybody says. It seems like she’s trying to get ahead of it, so people believe her. They both talk at once, and Kyle says LVP isn’t letting her talk. She’s here as a friend. Ken says Kyle’s not LVP’s friend, and Kyle says she’ll defend what’s right. LVP asks if Kyle thinks she leaked the story about Dorit, and Kyle admits she does; it’s so blatant. LVP says this is a big shock. In her interview, LVP says when push comes to shove, Kyle doesn’t back her up. We flash back to some of that, and I think it’s more that Kyle doesn’t want to make waves. LVP thinks this is another case of that. LVP says she’s not saying she did something wrong when she didn’t. She’s a woman of integrity. Kyle says it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t love LVP. LVP swears on her children’s lives; on Giggy’s life. Well, she must be telling the truth then. Kyle says, maybe she cares more about her image than she does her friendships. LVP says she can show herself out. In Kyle’s interview, she says she want to say one more thing, and turn it around. She never imagined it would get like this. Ken shows her the TMZ interview on his tablet, and asks if that doesn’t sound genuine. She can’t be LVP’s friend when she says something like that. LVP would never say that about her. She’s an effing liar, and not LVP’s friend or his. He tells her, please go. Kyle says she’s here because she didn’t want to feel like this. Ken tells her, join the gang. They’re ganging up on LVP. Kyle says she cares about her, and LVP says they’re done. Ken says, a twelve year friendship, done. Kyle asks if she’s not allowed to be honest. She’s just telling them how it looked. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t love LVP. She didn’t come to fight. LVP tells Kyle that she came there to say she’s a liar. Kyle says she has a hard time defending LVP, when they all think the same thing. LVP says if Kyle claimed she didn’t say something, she’d believe her. In Kyle’s interview, she says LVP is in so deep with what she said, there’s no turning back. How can they ever repair this situation? LVP tells Kyle to get the eff out of her house, and tells Ken that she’s done with Kyle. One of the dogs runs to the door as it closes behind Kyle, and I want to cry.

Next time, the yoga where you hang from aerial silks, Kyle tells the others what happened, and Denise doesn’t want to get on LVP’s bad side.

If Loving You Is Wrong

Steven single-handed beats up all four guys, smashing the last one’s head into their car window. Esperanza runs out, asking, what’s going on? Steven says he knows Eddie is behind this. Esperanza tells him, call the station, but he says he doesn’t need backup. He says, go in the house, and limps off. She makes a phone call.

Natalie’s phone rings. Esperanza asks if Lushion is there; it’s an emergency. Natalie says she’s tired of them calling for her man, but gives Lushion the phone. Esperanza explains that Steven was at her house, and four guys came when he was leaving. They got in a fight. Lushion asks if the four guys are all right. Steven is a bad boy. She says, they ran. Steven thinks Eddie sent them, and she doesn’t like the way Steven left. She’s never seen him that angry. She thinks he went to the pub to find Eddie. Lushion says, then Eddie should hide. She begs him to go to the pub. She thinks someone will get hurt. He says then she and Steven shouldn’t go there. There are a lot of police there; he’ll be fine. She repeats she’s never seen him like this, and Lushion says the only thing she knows about Steven, is that he wears purple drawers. She’s asking a favor; can he go? He says he’ll talk to Natalie, and hangs up. Natalie says, just go.

Natalie asks why Lushion is taking his time. He says he just realized he has to give Steven time to whoop Eddie’s ass. He’ll be just fine. Natalie says she understands him. He says that’s why he loves her.

Eddie sips his beer. Duncan and the guys come in. Duncan says Eddie didn’t tell them that bastard knew karate. Eddie says all of them couldn’t handle that punk. One guy says he needed stitches, and another says Steven damn near broke leg. Eddie says that’s what he gets, asking a group of ladies to do a man’s job. He can’t believe they couldn’t handle it. Steven comes in. The guys back up, and he sits. He says, so Eddie did send them. Eddie says he recognizes one of them, and Steven says maybe he’d like to join the other guy in the hospital. The bartender says he just had a brawl, and Eddie says there won’t be another one. Steven says Eddie knows he’s getting an ass kicking, and if he thinks these guys are stepping in, he’ll kill them. Steven sucker punches Eddie, then beats on him. Everyone just watches as he pummels Eddie’s face.

Lushion walks in, and tells Steven, enough; stop. Eddie says, leave him alone, and Lushion suggests he let this go. Eddie says he’s not letting it go, and Lushion says they’ll put that on his tombstone. Here lies Eddie, who wouldn’t let it go. The bartender wonders who’s cleaning this up. Lushion suggests Eddie, and leave.

Ian looks though some files, and pulls one out. Larry sees him, and says he’s there late. Ian didn’t think Larry was still there, but Larry says he was tied up (ha-ha!), and had catching up to do. He asks if Ian has Travis’s file. He thought he told Ian to get rid of it. Ian wants to talk about it, but Larry says there’s nothing talk about; give him the file. Ian says after everything Travis has done to her, Larry wants to bury it? Larry says, give him the damn file, but Ian says they need to talk about it. Larry says the represent Travis’s parents and the church to the tune of millions of dollars. They have an obligation to the client. Ian says Larry’s client, not his. Larry says Ian works for the firm; so does he. It’s a clear conflict of interest. Most of the sh*t they do there isn’t right. Ian says, this isn’t right. Larry says they’re defense attorneys. Since when do they give a damn what’s right or wrong, or the law? Ian says, because of everything Travis has done to her. Larry asks if Ian is sleeping with her, and Ian says, of course not. Larry says maybe that explains why Ian needs to take the paperwork that exonerates her. He’ll turn Ian over to the bar. Ian laughs, saying he’s got so much on Larry. Larry is sure he does, but he doesn’t play bondage with nine members of the bar association, does he? Larry says he could fire Ian, and when he walks out, so does his career. Ian hands him the file. Larry says if Ian has any copies or anything memorized, he strongly recommends Ian get rid of it , or he’ll eat his ass for breakfast. Ian tells Larry that he’s a weird dude.

Kelly calls for the nurse. The nurse asks if she can’t sleep, and Kelly asks her to loosen the cuffs. The nurse says she’s a prisoner. She killed that man, and needs to suck it up. She knows where she’s going. A woman being examined tells Kelly, stop asking. Kelly says she’s not talking to her, and calls for the nurse again. The woman says they don’t care. Kelly thinks she’s one of them; better than her. Kelly tells her, mind her own business. The woman says, or what? Kelly will kill her. They try to take the options out of the prisoners’ hands. A staff member comes in, and says take the woman back to her cell.  She introduces herself as Margaret; she’s the chaplain there. She asks if Kelly wants prayer, and Kelly says, no. Margaret says they all forgive her. Kelly asks who they are, and Margaret says, Calvary Church. Travis was a good man. Kelly calls for the nurse. Margaret says she’s not there to harm Kelly, but pray for her. Kelly says she should have prayed for him. Margaret says they prayed for his soul. Kelly asks, why doesn’t she pray that God reveals the truth? Margaret says she already knows Kelly stalked Travis until she killed him. Kelly says that’s what Travis did to her. Margaret says she’s not the first woman to say that. They all get jealous. His father is prominent and powerful Kelly asks, how many women said that? and Margaret says she did. Kelly tells her that she just said there were others. Margaret says they were talking about truth. Kelly quotes the Bible, saying, some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but she trusts in the name of the Lord, her God (Psalm 20:7). Margaret says she knows that one, and they throw Bible verses at each other. Margaret says, thou shalt not kill. Kelly says she calls herself a woman of God. Please asks God to reveal the truth. Please. Surprisingly, Margaret says, okay; she will. Kelly says, good. Now leave. They trade God bless yous, and Kelly calls the nurse. She says she’s having chest pains. The nurse says, all right, and goes back to her station.

Alex’s phone dings. Dr. Raston texts that she’s been trying to call her. Alex knows. Dr. Raston texts, they’ve known each other a long time. Alex is sorry. Dr. Raston texts what she did was horrible and unethical. What Alex said to Brad that she switched the tests. Alex needs to fix this. Alex texts she told him the truth, but the doctor texts, it’s not just that. She thinks there’s going to be a Board Review about how she handled it. Alex needs to let the Board know that she lied. Alex texts, she will, and Dr. Raston texts, she’ll get that scheduled. Alex asks, how could this happen? The DNA not matching? The doctor texts, it’s either a very rare mistake or Alex has another partner. Alex texts, there was no other partner.  Then it’s a mix up in the lab. She asks if there’s any way Brad could be the father. Dr. Raston doesn’t know. Alex tests, the baby is clearly mixed. What about the family tree? If there’s someone who’s darker? The doctor texts that she had a patient with a redheaded baby. The father doubted it, since here was no one in the family who was redheaded. Alex asks, what happened? Dr. Raston texts, the DNA showed he was the father. Sure enough, there was a grandparent who had red hair. Alex texts, so it could be possible? The doctor texts, it’s beyond a stretch, but it could be possible. There are medical cases, but she doubts it. They’ll talk about it when Alex talks to the Board. In the meantime, she’ll do some research. Alex texts, OK. Thanks.

A doctor tells Eddie, nothing is broken, but he’s going to be sore as hell. Eddie says he doesn’t need a doctor to tell him that. The doctor says he’s fortunate there’s no internal bleeding. Eddie says just give him the damn pain pills. The doctor writes a prescription, and Eddie looks at it. He says he’s a cocaine addict, and the doctor says he shouldn’t take it then. Eddie tears up the prescription, and throws it at the doctor, saying he needs something stronger. The doctor says he can report Eddie. Eddie says he can report the doctor. When he did Eddie’s prostate exam, he left his finger up there for some time. The doctor says he never gave Eddie an exam. He calls Eddie one unethical horrible person, but gives him a new prescription. Eddie suggests the doctor give him two or three of those. Just sign them; he’ll fill them out himself. The doctor signs a few, and Eddie grabs them, along with the doctor’s pen.

Eddie sees Kelly in the waiting area, and asks what she’s doing there. She tells him, get away, and a nurse asks, what’s going on? Eddie asks if she can’t tell him how she’s doing, and she says leave her alone. He sits down instead, saying she looks like hell. She says, so does he. He says she bought a house for a man, and killed two. They’re calling her the Black Widow. He touches her arm, and says, Black. He says she’s chained up like a farm animal; like a big ass mule ridden into the ground. She tells him, go away. He says he’d never say anything racist, and she calls for the nurse. He says, scream louder. He says, she’s so selfish. Hanging herself, and not thinking about anyone else. Suddenly, Rick is there, and asks what Eddie is doing. Eddie says, having a conversation with a friend. Rick tells him, get out now. Eddie says he doesn’t take orders from him, and Rick says, bounce. Eddie says he’ll let him have her, and tells Kelly that he’ll see her soon.

Rick asks if Kelly is all right. She says she can’t stand Eddie. She says she told the nurse she had chest pains, like Rick told her too, but she’s being ignored. Rick says the nurse is just mad because she has to do paperwork. He said he’d do it. Kelly asks if he’s been drinking. He says hours ago; he’s good. He’s going to be her guard while she’s there. She can’t believe they have her there; everyone is just passing her by. Rick says, it’s fine, and she says, easy for him to say. He’s not chained up. She asks if he can stay with her, and he says he wants to. He says he used to work security for the church, and she says he’s on Travis’s side too, but he says he’s not. Some things went down, and he thinks he can help her. She asks why she should trust him, and he says, what else does she have to lose? She asks if he knows Margaret, the chaplain. Margaret visited her, and said she’d been praying for her. He says Margaret means well, but Kelly doesn’t think she’s a great person. Margaret wouldn’t believe her, and said a lot of stuff against her. She also said there were others. She acted like she didn’t, but Kelly knows what she heard. Rick promises he’s going to watch everything. The doctor comes to take Kelly for tests. He wheels her away, and Rick follows.

Natalie’s phone rings. It’s Esperanza, who asks if Lushion is home. Natalie says, no, and asks what Esperanza is doing. Esperanza says she just likes Steven, and doesn’t want to see him get hurt. Natalie says Esperanza knows Eddie is going to act the fool every chance he gets. She needs to shut this down, once and for all. Esperanza says she’s tried everything; nothing works. That’s who he is. Natalie says, all this mess with Kelly; she needs to get this under control. She suggests Esperanza try talk to him. Esperanza says she’s tried that, thousands of times. Natalie means sitting him down to have a nice long talk. Esperanza asks if she thinks it will work, and Natalie says, hell no. Esperanza says, why do that again? and Natalie asks what else she’s got. Talk to him. Try to reason with him. Esperanza says she’s hearing Natalie, but can’t believe she, of all people, is saying talk. Natalie says she’s just giving Esperanza options. Just try it. Lushion comes in, and Natalie gives him the phone. He tells Esperanza, Steven is fine. Eddie is beat up pretty bad. She thanks him, and she says he needs to talk to her tomorrow about her, Steven, and this. They say goodnight.

Eddie sits in his car, when his phone rings. He asks to what does he owe this surprise? and Esperanza says she just wants to talk to him. He says he’s on his way, but she says, not tonight. He knows she wants some of this, and she tells him, stop. He says he’s sore as hell, but can work it out for her. She doesn’t know why she bothers with him. He says, what can I do for you, my dear? and she tells him, stop being an a-hole. He says, that’s like telling Lushion not be Black. She heard he got his ass kicked. She wants to sit down, have a nice lunch, and talk like civilized people. He asks what she wants to talk about, and she says, there are a lot of things they need to talk about. He says, she misses him, doesn’t she? She asks will he just have lunch with her? He says he’ll bring lunch to the house, and they can have a picnic on the bed. She hangs up, and shakes her head. He says, playing hard to get, and she says, it’s never going to work.

There’s a knock at Esperanza’s door. She swears if Eddie’s been sitting out there the entire time… It’s Steven, and she asks if he’s okay. He says he’s fine, and she tells him that she’s sorry she got him involved. He says, don’t apologize. He can handle it. She asks if he wants to come in, but he just wanted to say, sorry. He’s pretty scary, and can be monster when pushed. She says, Eddie was like that, but he says he’s nothing like Eddie. She asks if he thinks she’d like him if he was. Eddie became that. Steven says, he’s an addict. Eddie does more blow than the people they arrest. She didn’t know that. She didn’t think it was that bad. He says, it’s really bad, and she asks him not to hold it against her. He says he’s not upset with her. She says she’s been there before. Eddie has ruined so many potential relationships. He asks if she’s saying they’re together, but she says, no. He says, whatever she’s saying, she’s not losing him. it was a long, crazy night, and he wants to sleep, and give this some thought. She says she’s there if he needs her. He says, the monster she saw earlier? He’d never lay a hand on anyone she cares about.

Natalie tells Lushion that his phone was ringing. She’d put it on vibrate, so it didn’t wake the kids. He says it was Rick, and calls back. Rick says, Kelly is in the hospital. He’d told her to tell the infirmary she had chest pains, so she could be moved where she can get real help. She can talk to a psychologist while she’s there. Lushion says, that’s good. Rick just wanted him to know. Lushion tells Natalie what happened. She asks why he thinks Rick did that, and Lushion thinks he feels guilty about not helping her. She should cut him some slack; he was just doing his job. Lushion does think it’s a little strange for Rick to go that far. Natalie asks why he thinks that is. He doesn’t know, but he’s going to find out. She tells him, get some rest. She knows has to be tired. He asks what she’s doing, and she says, making the kids’ lunches for school. Lushion says he looked in on them, and they were sleeping. She asks how Justice was sleeping, and Lushion says, fine. She says, poor child, and Lushion says, he’ll be fine. She’s done a lot; all she can do. She say she’s hurting for them. She hopes Kelly gets off. Lushion does too. She says, that lawyer. How long has Lushion known him? Lushion says, long enough for him to be on his side. Natalie says she was wrong. If they need to spend the money to help Kelly, just do it. He says he’s working on something, and she says she can’t be that selfish. He knows where she’s coming from. She says, it’s a lot, but Kelly is their friend. He says they’ll do what they can do. She says she loves him; he’s a good man. He tells her, show him how much she loves him, when they hear a scream.

They look outside, and Tanya is on the sidewalk, screaming her head off.

Next time, Tanya freaks out, Lushion says it looks like they have some new neighbors, Brad tells Alex to sign the papers, Kelly begs Lushion not to cuff her, and Randal punches Larry out.
