What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Curtis is having a drink with Drew at the MetroCourt, but has to leave for a meeting. Drew says he’s not in the mood to celebrate. Curtis asks how he found out; was he snooping? Drew says, not snooping. He was hungry, went to the kitchen, and saw the cake, It’s a great cake; three layers. Curtis says a three-layer cake would piss him off too. Drew says he appreciates it, but doesn’t like to be the center of attention. Curtis tells him, suck it up, and let those who love him, love on him. He’s worth it. Curtis says, happy birthday. Have fun and act surprised.

Monica and Kim are on the patio, where Monica is putting last minute touches on the party. She’s sorry Ned and Olivia can’t be there, but glad the rest of them will be. Kim thanks Monica for inviting her and Oscar. Sam arrives.

In the elevator, Maxie tells Peter that she’ll talk to Olivia. She’d talk to Carly, but she’s distracted. She’s surprised Olivia didn’t notice. The elevators are slow during peak hours. They should take that into consideration and add more elevators. The elevator jerks to a stop.

Valentin thanks Curtis for meeting him; he’s eager for an update. Curtis doesn’t want to waste Valentin’s time. If he gets something concrete, he’ll tell him. Valentin says they need to find Nina’s daughter as soon as possible. Curtis says not them, him. Then Valentin can deliver the information to Nina in hopes of saving his marriage.

Nina meets a man named Amit at the MetroCourt. He understands she wants an appraisal. She asks what he can tell her whatever he knows about this, and shows him the necklace. I just have to say it, they couldn’t have found something that looked more expensive? This was bought at Target for sure.

Margaux asks if Jordan found something to identify the body, and Jordan says, not quite, but it will put them on the right trail. Forensics got the remains of a bullet out of a bone. Margaux isn’t sure that will shed light on the body, but it might get them closer to identifying the killer.

Sonny asks Carly how his dad is. Carly says, like him, pretending everything is fine when it’s not. She doesn’t want to have the conversation any more than Sonny, but she loves him, and has to be straight with him. Things are adding up. When Mike took off with Avery; what happened with the alarm; and now Charlie’s. All of them could have ended in a tragedy. She thinks they’re running out of time. They can’t keep it up. She knows that Mike knows, and she thinks Sonny knows too.

Nina asks what he can tell her, and he says there’s no signature marking; at least nothing familiar. Nina asks if it was made to look like it was divided, or is it part of a whole piece. Amit says, it appears to be half of a larger piece; an original heart pendant divided. Nina says she has to find who has the other half.

Valentin tells Curtis, it’s a win-win. Curtis will find Nina’s daughter for her, and be paid handsomely. If it’s too much, he can find someone else do it. Curtis says he’ll do it for Nina, but Valentin had better not hold any of the information against her. He says there’s been a development. He’s been working a new angle, and his forensics accountant’s trace on the transfer worked. There’s no telling what will come of it. It’s twenty years old; it still may end up going nowhere. That’s why Curtis was waiting to tell him. Valentin says he’s anxious to let Nina know. In that soap way of how things work, Nina is suddenly there and says, let me know what?

Jordan says she’ll get an answer from ballistics soon. Margaux says she’s optimistic. Jordan can’t promise anything, but she’s got a good team. They can see if the bullet matches anything used in another crime. Margaux says tell her more about Charlie’s. Jordan says it’s connected loosely to Frank Smith Margaux says maybe they can connect him to the history of the body, and Jordan calls for his file to be pulled.

Sonny asks if Carly really wants to do this right now. She asks if he honestly believes this is working. He says he just has to figure it out; he needs more time. Carly asks, how much? Mike has been with them for months. They keep making arrangements, but things happen; big things. Now Julian is involved. Sonny says Julian isn’t going to say anything. He understands Sonny would do anything to keep his father safe. Carly asks if he really thinks he is.

Monica asks Sam where the kids are. Sam says Danny is at a breakfast, and wonders where Michael is. Monica says he wasn’t feeling it, and Sam tells her Scout is upstairs napping. Monica leaves to peek in. Kim says she feels bad for what Michael is going through. Sam says they just need to be there for him and listen. It’s unimaginable. Kim says it sounds like she’s speaking from experience, and Sam says she is. She tells her about Lila being stillborn, and says a foolish woman said she was lucky to never have known her. It would have been worse if she’d started a relationship. Kim says, that’s horrible. Sam says the words came back in her head when Danny was diagnosed with leukemia. She tells Kim that he’s fine now, with no traces of the disease; miracles happen. Sam says, she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to… Kims says, didn’t mean to what? and Sam says, nothing. Kim says she knows, doesn’t she? Sam says Drew told her. She’s so sorry. Kim does not look happy.

Sonny says everything he does is to protect his father, and Carly says he’s gone above and beyond, but she doesn’t think it’s working. Sonny says when he makes a mistake, he tries to fix it. Carly says he can’t fix what’s wrong with Mike. She loves him too, and wants what’s best for him. Sonny needs to decide while Mike still can. Sonny tells her Mike has already said he doesn’t want to be a burden, and Carly says he’s been clear about that. Sonny is wonderful with his dad, but he’s missing something important. He needs to take Mike at his word, and let him go. Mike hears the conversation.

Sam tells Kim that she could tell something was wrong. Drew didn’t want to, but finally told her Oscar’s prognosis. Kim says it’s none of her business. Sam says Drew was a wreck; he needed to talk to someone, and he trusts her. Kim can too. She’s sorry. They’re a family; their kids are siblings. If they need anything, Sam is there for her. Kim says they’re fine. Monica runs in, saying Drew is early.

Drew comes toward the patio. Monica, Sam, and Kim grab balloons and yell, surprise! He fake smiles.

On the phone, Maxie tells Olivia, tell the elevator guys to hurry. She has a meeting, and they’re stuck between eight and nine. She tells Peter the elevator company is on the way; there’s no need to freak out. She isn’t. He starts hyperventilating. He hits some buttons, and she says they shut the elevator down. They need to work on it for an hour – or less.

Nina tells Valentin, keeping secrets as usual. She doesn’t care. She needs to talk to Curtis about a pressing matter. Curtis leaves with Nina.

Nina describes a man in the bar to Curtis, and says he’s following her. (He bumped into her earlier.) She asks if Curtis thinks she’s paranoid, and he says no, judging from what appears to be a firearm in his jacket. He tells Nina, stay cool; he’s got it. He throws the guy against the bar, and the guy says he has a permit to conceal. Nina says she calls it being stalked. She’s calling the police. Curtis looks at his ID, and tells her, hold on. He’s a bodyguard. Nina asks, for who? and the guy says her. Nina says she didn’t hire a bodyguard, and Valentin says he did.

Maxie asks Peter if he’s okay; he seems a little not okay. Does he have a thing about being confined? Usually he’s so in control. He says this is new for him, and continues hyperventilating. Maxie wonders if him being tied to a bed for weeks has something to do with it, and he says, could be. He unbuttons hi shirt, saying he doesn’t feel like he can breathe. Maxie tells him the air is fine; it’s not hermetically sealed. She suggests they sit and try breathing; in through the nose, out through the mouth. She says the last time they were breathing together, she was on the side of the road in labor. This should be a piece of cake. He says it’s embarrassing, and she begins a breathing exercise.

Curtis tells the guy, his bad, and Valentin tells him to go. Curtis tells the patrons, everything is fine; pardon the interruption. His phone rings, and he steps away to take the call. Nina asks why Valentin hired someone to spy on her. He says he’s protecting her. It’s been brought to his attention that she has an enemy. Nina says, you can’t run a fashion magazine without occasionally stepping on Erica Kane’s toes. Valentin tells her Cassandra is on the loose.

Monica tells Drew to trust her. He might think a family birthday is a big ordeal, but he’s going to be happy looking back on the memories. Kim leaves to check on Oscar, and Sam says Scout should just be finishing her nap, so they should go. I wonder where everyone else is. Drew asks why Sam is leaving, and she says she was just planning to drop by; she didn’t think he’d want her to stay. He asks her to stick around.

Inside the Quartermaine’s, Kim leaves Oscar a message, saying she doesn’t like going to voicemail. He’s supposed to have his phone on at all times. His father showed up early, and they had to start without him. She tells him to text her, and hurry up. Drew walks in, and she asks if he was really surprised. He says he picked up on a clue or two, but didn’t want to put a damper on things. She asks if they can meet later and talk about Oscar. Nothing has changed, but they need to figure out how to communicate better. She had no idea he was going to tell Sam.

Oscar strolls on to the patio. He asks Monica if Drew was surprised. She says, yes, but it was fake. Sam asks about his hand, and he says he bumped into something. She says it looks like he was in a fight.

Margaux asks about Luke and Laura, and Jordan explains that Luke was Frank Smith’s guy. He ran a club, and did money laundering. He and Laura eventually turned Frank in for racketeering. Margaux would like to talk to them, but Jordan says they’re both out of town. She might have more success with Laura. She says she can speak with Laura’s husband; he testified for Carly. Margaux says that Sonny is on the list of Frank Smith’s known associates. Wouldn’t they have known this already? Oh, never mind.

Sonny says he’s not abandoning his father, but Carly says he’ll be honoring his father’s wishes, and taking a step to him from himself. He’s terrified he’ll hurt someone he loves. He can’t say it straight out. Mike doesn’t want to abandon Sonny. Sonny says he doesn’t know how to send Mike out of sight; it’s painful. There are a lot of options; they can come up with a plan. Carly says it’s not about him, it’s about Mike, and what he needs and wants. Sonny says what if Mike doesn’t know? Mike comes out, and says he’s wondering that right now. He has a full deck and a sound mind. Carly is right. He has to go. It’s what he wants, and it’s time.

Sonny asks how long he’s been there, and Mike says, long enough. Carly says they didn’t mean for him to hear, but he says, everything needed to be said. It’s not like it isn’t true. Sonny says, nothing is settled, but Mike says he and Carly are in agreement. He gave it his best shot; it’s time to rethink things. Sonny says he’s open to other arrangements. They could get live-in help, make him more secure. Staying there is better. He has family who love him. Mike isn’t so sure that’s a selling point. He says right now, every day, he’s losing himself, bit by bit. A little more; a little faster. Avery told Carly that her other name is Courtney, because that’s what he calls her sometimes. He wonders about the day he doesn’t recognize her. He can’t bear to think about it, and doesn’t want to cause more worry in Sonny’s own home. Carly says it’s his home too; it always will be. Sonny says he’ll always do everything keep Mike. Mike asks, at what point does a home stop being a home, and become a prison?

Kim tells Drew, the more people who know, the better the chance of Oscar finding out from the wrong person or the wrong way. Drew says that’s easily remedied by telling him the truth. She says he needs to pull it together; it’s all over his face. Sam interrupts, saying Oscar is there; they might want to come out. Don’t worry, but it looks like he’s been in a fight.

Nina says Valentin is making this up, and he tells her, ask Anna. She wanted to tell Nina, but he asked her to let him do it. Nina says, Cassandra is in custody, and he says, someone broke her out. She says, Cassandra is in a coma, and Valentin says, now she’s not. Thanks to Finn. The same people who held him and Anna in captivity, forced him to treat her. Nina wonders who would help Cassandra, and Valentin says he’d like to know himself. She says, the WSB must be on it, and he says, they lost her in the first place. Nina isn’t happy that the bodyguard reports to Valentin, so he can monitor her every move. Valentin suggests she move back to Windemere. She can have her own wing; he won’t bother her. I’m in. He needs to know she’s safe. Nina says she feels safer on the mainland. If she needs a bodyguard, she’ll hire one herself. Here he is now. Curtis returns.

Peter asks Maxie, how much longer, and she says, they’re working on it right now. She suggests they play game. Would You Rather. She asks if he’d rather lose all his money and valuables, or all his photos. He says, it’s a draw. He’s already lost all his money, and he lived; and he has no pictures. She asks why, and he says he’d need to have someone to be in the pictures. She asks if he’d rather lose short or long term memory, and he says short. Maxie says she’d be the opposite, and he says if he forgot the bad things he’s done, he couldn’t make up for them.

Curtis joins Nina and Valentin. He asks what Cassandra has against Valentin, and Valentin says they worked together long ago. She’s obsessed with him. She’s violent, and has it out for Nina. Curtis says he can hook her up with some protection, but Nina says she can take care of herself. Cassandra had better steer clear of her, or she’ll heed protection.

Peter says, there are some things in life you can’t atone for, and Maxie says, people throw that word around easily. They say it like it’s difficult to accomplish. She’s not aiming that at him, but her own experience. She’s made mistakes and hurt people. He says, way back in her horrible days? and she says it wasn’t that long ago. He says she’s come a long way. A lot of people hold her in high regard. Maybe there’s hope for him yet. She asks if he’d rather wear his shirts too big or too small, and he says, too big. She says, and hide his muscles? If you’ve got them, flaunt them. Oh brother. The elevator starts moving. Peter thanks her, and when it stops, the doors open and they fall out. Nina is like, wha-a-at?

Oscar tells Kim and Drew that they need to chill. They’re making way too much of this. Kim says he was in a fight, and Oscar says, barely. Monica says it’s not bad, and Oscar points out she does open heart surgery. Someone said something he didn’t like, and it was over in seconds. If Drew hadn’t taught him how to throw a punch, he would have gotten his ass kicked. Drew says he taught him how to defend himself, not throw a punch at whoever pisses him off. Oscar says, it’s not like anyone died. Kim says he just got out of the hospital. Monica is surprised.

Jordan says Sonny worked for Frank Smith; he ran Franks strip club, but there’s no connection. Sonny wasn’t in Port Charles at the time the body was buried. Margaux says, then their best lead is to learn who knew the pub owner and locate them. She knows where to start.

Sonny tells Mike it’s not a prison. Mike says Sonny has to listen, now, while he’s having a good moment. It’s no fun see people watching him from the edge of their seats or hovering, being totally confused about who he is. This is his reality, and he can’t stand them seeing him like this. Sonny says it’s just his pride talking, and Mike says, so what if it is? Isn’t he allowed to have some pride and dignity? Sonny asks if he thinks he’d be better off with strangers. Mike asks what happens the day he wakes up and they’re strangers? Will he understand then? Sonny says he doesn’t know how to do this. Mike says he left Sonny before, to his everlasting regret. He’d do anything if he didn’t have to leave him again, but it will happen one way or another. This way, they leave with good feelings instead of Mike just disappearing before his eyes. They’re both crying, and making me cry. Not only is Mike killing me, I’ll be very sad to see Max Gail go.

Nina doesn’t want to know. Maxie says she has the wrong idea, and follows her down the hall.

Curtis asks Valentin how much of the Cassandra situation he left out, and Valentin says he’ll worry about Cassandra. He wants Curtis to focus on Nina’s daughter. Curtis says the phone call was from his forensic accountant. The trace went through. Officially, it’s a single mother with a daughter the same age as Nina’s would be today. Well that sure narrows it down.

Monica says, you don’t go to the hospital for a headache, but Oscar says he didn’t eat, passes out, and Jason overreacted. Kim says, he acted with an abundance of caution, and she’s glad he did. Oscar suggests they cut the cake, and Monica asks him to do it. He says he’s bad at it, and doesn’t like being the center of attention (like his dad). Monica says she’ll keep that in mind when it’s his birthday – and throw an even bigger party. Do five people, including the guest, even qualify as a party? I ask again, where is everyone?

Sonny tells Mike there are places that have all-day activities, and you come home at night. He can ease into it, and they can ease into it. Mike says it sounds like a plan, but he’d still like to check out the residential facilities while he still can. He wants to have a say before he can’t. He and Sonny shake on it.

The house phone rings, and someone is at the door. Sonny tells Max to have them go away, but Carly says it’s too late. Margaux and Jordan walk in. They have questions related to the body found under Charlie’s. Sonny tells them that he’s said everything he has to say. Margaux says they’re not there to speak to him. They’re here to talk to his father.

On Monday, Oscar tells Josslyn about the fight, Robin says a hideous injustice has been done, and Cameron wants to know why Elizabeth is so interested in Oscar.

👹 The Sy – we can’t spell – Fy channel has been showing mini marathons of Z Nation on Friday mornings. Today they had one of my favorite episodes, Day One, where we see the backstories of the major characters; where they were when the apocalypse broke out. My main question was, how did Doc know what was going on so quickly? He just grabbed a bag of drugs and ran. It also unearthed (pun intended) a great quote from Addy’s story:

Zombie night? ** No. That’s next Thursday. – one hockey player to another when zombies appear at a game.

I’m hoping this is paving the way for the new season. And when will that be? Who knows? This was the latest I could find…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

On the phone, Sonny tells someone to let him know what they find out. Mike approaches Sonny, and says he needs to know how much trouble he made, referring to the body in the basement at Charlie’s.

Kristina tells Julian it’s a shame she can’t hang out at Charlie’s. He asks, why not? and she says, the owner. She thinks it’s a clever mob front, and he says he’s out of that. She tells him that he’s said that before. He says it’s a legit business. Like it or not, he’s here stay. If not, there’s the door.

Jordan tells someone on the phone she appreciates their assistance. Let her know if the PCPD can help in the future. She tells Curtis that Carter is being remanded to his adult children, but he’s being brought to Port Charles as they speak. In the interim, he needs a place to stay, and she arranged for it to be there. Curtis thanks her, saying it means a lot, and more to Nina if it leads to the daughter she didn’t know she has.

Maxie wonders what the homeless lady was doing at the church, and tells Nina that she felt bad. The woman really smelled, and she wanted to take her for a spa day. There’s a delivery for Nina. Nina says it’s from her mother’s lawyers.

Sam tells Jason sorry she didn’t give him notice she was going to Oregon; her sister needed her support. Jason says Sonny told him that Kristina is moving back, and Sam says Kristina is staying with her. Their mother offered, but she doesn’t want friction. Jason asks if she’s playing peacemaker, and Sam says she’s giving Kristina space. It’s hard getting over a relationship, after giving up time and emotions. She needs to take a step back to rebuild her life, and figure out what she wants and needs without pressure. She was lucky to have support, so she’s giving Kristina the same. Jason says she’s a good sister. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Drew. He wants to see Scout, but thinks it might be a bad time. Jason says he was just leaving, and asks how Oscar is.

Josslyn tells Oscar to keep his eyes closed, and they approach her decorated bench. She says she’s shocked his mom let him come out after being released from the hospital. She notices the balloons are deflated and the crepe paper isn’t looking so great. She tells him it looked less depressing yesterday. He loves that she did it; it’s not her fault. He’ll try his best not pass out next anniversary. Josslyn says waking up in the ER must be scary, even though it turned out to not be serious.

Carter Buckley is brought to Curtis’s room. Curtis and Jordan introduce themselves. Carter says he’d shake hands, but… and shows them the cuffs. Curtis says before they start, condolences on his recent prognosis. Carter appreciates it, and wonders what the meeting is about. Curtis knows he was arrested for brokering illegal adoptions, and has a question about one of his clients. Carter was advised not to discuss that, and Curtis says he doesn’t want to make trouble. He just has a question about one client. What can Carter tell him about Madeline Reeves?

Maxie asks if Nina wants her to get rid of the box, but Nina rips it open. She looks inside, and says it’s a box of stuff from her childhood. She takes out some scarves, her first running gloves, and a framed picture of her and Nathan when he was a baby. Maxie looks at it.

Kristina tells Julian that she needs a job, and asks if he’s hiring. He says he needs a bartender, and she tells him she’s an expert, but not in an obnoxious mixologist way. He wonders how much it would piss her father off if he hired her, and says he’s not interested in making waves, especially with Sonny. Kristina says Julian sells Sonny’s coffee, so he obviously has a stake in the business; he should be on board.

Mike is concerned about what happens if Julian get the go-ahead for renovation. Sonny says they don’t know the extent of what he’s doing, and so far, he’s been able to block him getting a permit; it’s a non-issue. Mike says what if the next one isn’t rejected? What is he going to do? Mike says he thought he was watching Sonny’s back when he moved the body, but he created more problems. Sonny says he’ll take care of it. Mike says he created the mess; he’s cleaning it up for good this time.

Sam asks if something happened to Oscar, and Jason says he collapsed and ended up in the ER, but he seemed okay. He leaves, and Sam asks Drew, what’s going on? He says he just wanted to see his favorite girl.

Josslyn says she and Oscar still have a lot to learn about each other. He asks if she means the low blood sugar thing, and says it’s nothing to worry about. She says it sounds silly, and bringing it up is trivial in the grand scheme of things, but something is bothering her. She found out the riddle he texted to her wasn’t from him.

Sonny tells Mike there’s nothing to fix, and Mike says don’t treat him like that. Sonny understands Mike was trying to protect him, but he was eighteen, and he’s not that kid anymore; he has resources. Julian, he can handle. He tells Mike the less he knows, the better. If he really wants to help, then let it go. it’s not good for him to be stressed.

Julian tells Kristina, if Sonny has a problem, he’s the one who will hear about it. Why doesn’t she try somewhere else? He has some business to take care of, and Kristina says she’ll help with the garnishes, and gets behind the bar. Valerie comes in, and tells Julian that she has a message from the city council. They’ve reached a decision about his permit.

Sonny says it’s time to take Mike for his checkup. Jason comes in, and Sonny suggests he come along so they can talk. Mike says it’s ridiculous. Sonny has better things to do than babysit him. He has a nurse, and one of Sonny’s guys can drive. He tells Sonny to focus on his business, and he’ll feel like less of a burden. Sonny agrees.

Valerie tells Julian that his renovation plans were approved. Kristina tells him that he’s low on vermouth. Valerie is excited to see her, and Kristina apologizes for not texting. She tells Valerie that she’s moving back, and Valerie says she missed hanging out with her. Kristina says she just started working at Charlie’s, and Julian says he hasn’t offered her a job. Valerie says she can vouch for Kristina’s classic cocktails. Kristina starts rattling off cocktail recipes. Julian says he has to make some calls; they’ll talk later. Valerie says if she keeps reciting recipes, he’ll hire her just to shut her up. She wonders why Kristina is back when she’s living with Parker.

Drew holds Scout, and Sam says he has the magic touch. Usually when she needs a nap, she’s all kinds of fussy. He says, it’s crazy. Kids grow so quickly, and change so fast. It’s like a lifetime in a few months. He wishes he could slow it down. Sam suggest she put Scout down for her nap, so they can talk. Drew says he could use it.

Oscar says he should have told Josslyn that Cameron helped. He’s not best the at romantic gestures. She says, he is; he put the video together. He put a lot of thought into it. He says, the point is, there is a lot they don’t know, even after a year. She says the good news is, they’re young and have plenty of time to figure each other out. Geez. Not trying to tug at the audience’s heartstrings too hard or anything.

Carter says he never heard of Madeline. Curtis shows him her picture. He says Carter looks pale. Carter says he’s fine. He’s sorry, but he has an obligation to protect the identity of his clients. Jordan says, here’s the deal. They’re sorry he has a terminal illness, but compassionate release can be revoked as soon as he aids and abets another crime. Carter says, fine; he’ll talk.

Nina takes out a note from the executor. It’s what Madeline left her. She lifts a jewelry box out. Inside is a note from her mom. In the envelope is a necklace, and a note that says, this will mend a broken heart. Nina says, this means something.

Sonny tells Jason that Mike is on his way to the hospital. Mike feels good and focused today. Jason wonders what happens if Julian gets the permit to renovate; if they find the body and gun. Sonny says they can find a contractor they can control, and put a person on the crew. Jason says he can inspect after hours. If anything turns up, he’ll make sure they’re the only ones who know.

Julian calls Kim, and leaves a message asking about Oscar, and telling her that he’s there if she needs him. Kristina tells Valerie that she and Parker broke up. They’re lives were going in opposite directions, and if she stayed, she’d be fading further into the background. She needed to find her own path. Valerie is all for it, especially if it keeps her there. She’s missed Kristina. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Sam asks Drew, what’s going on with Oscar? Drew says Oscar stayed the night at the hospital, and Drew stayed there until he was discharged. Sam asks if something serious is going on, and Drew tells her. Oscar has a brain tumor. It’s malignant and inoperable. She’s so sorry; Drew is too. She says Oscar must be so scared, and Drew says, that’s the thing, Oscar has no clue. He was already so sick when Kim found out, she chose to keep it from him. She doesn’t want him worrying about dying, and wants him to enjoy living, and being a regular teenager. Sam asks if he agrees.

Josslyn tells Oscar it will be their goal for this year. He says they’re setting goals now. He says they don’t know a lot about each other, and should start finding out. What is something Josslyn has wanted to do, but hasn’t? She says make out with her boyfriend in the woods. He thinks he can help her with that, and takes her hand.

Nina can’t believe her mom remembered. She holds up the necklace, a jade half-heart. Nina says Annie was her first Broadway show when she was little. She loved it. Maxie did too, and gets all excited. Nina says she was obsessed. She used to run around singing every song, then go to her mom’s bedroom and take out the necklace, pretending it was a locket like Annie’s. Maxie asks, where’s the other half?

Carter tells Curtis that he’d recognize Madeline anywhere. She was one of his clients. He was hired to find parents for a baby. It was unusual. Her daughter was in a coma, and gave birth to a baby girl. Madeline thought her son-in-law had something to do with her daughter’s condition. She kept the pregnancy under wraps, so he wouldn’t find out. When the time came, he arranged for the baby to be sent somewhere he couldn’t find her. Curtis asks who he ended up giving baby to.

Maxie tells Nina, way of making peace. Nina says, it’s kind of late, but Maxie says maybe she found it hard to ask forgiveness. Nina wonders what the significance is of the missing half.

Carter couldn’t tell Curtis who it was. Curtis says he must have records. Carter says if he did, they’re long gone. Keeping records in his business is a giant liability. He’s sorry he’s not more help. Jordan thanks him, and say they’re done there. Carter says, for what it’s worth (the phrase of the week), he wishes he could do more. The officers take him away. Jordan tells Curtis that she’s sorry it didn’t pan out the way he wanted it to. At least they know the child survived. Curtis says they know more than that.

Kristina asks Valerie what’s new, and Valerie says she’s taking a detective exam. Kristina says they have to celebrate, but Valerie says not until she passes. Kristina says she’ll miss seeing Valerie in her uniform. She rocks it.

Sonny tells Jason if they could control how the body is found, it would be a weight off his shoulders, and his dad’s. Jason asks if Mike has said any more, but Sonny doesn’t want to ask. Mike gets agitated and confused, and needs to stay calm. On a day like today, he seems like his old self, and it’s tempting to ask, but he doesn’t want to take the risk.

Mike looks in the window at Charlie’s. Inside, Kristina makes Valerie promise they’ll hang out after she slays the exam. Valerie says, deal, and tells Kristina, welcome home. She leaves, and Mike hides around a corner.

Drew tells Sam that he thinks Oscar has the right to know what he’s facing, but up until a year ago, Kim was raising him alone. Who is he to contradict, if she thinks letting him live his best life in the time he’s got is the best thing? Sam sees the point. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. Once you know the truth, it’s hard to unknow. Drew says they’re just starting to get to know and understand each other. Oscar is starting to trust him as a father, and now he’s keeping a secret. Unless a miracle happens, he’s going to lose his son. Sam says, miracles happen every day. She’s seen them for herself, and hopes for a miracle for Oscar. She tells Drew to love him as best he can, and spend as much time as possible with him now.

As the come out of the woods, Josslyn tells Oscar, it was a worthwhile experience. They almost kiss, and Oscar’s phone dings. He says his mom is picking him up, and asks if she wants a ride. She says she needs to clean up, and he says he’ll help. His phone dings again, and he figures he’d better go before she freaks. He has an idea. Between now and their next anniversary, they should keep this up. She says, making out? and he says, that too, but doing stuff they’ve always wanted to do, but together. She says, like a bucket list for people with lots of time. She likes it.

Nina tells Maxie, hypothetically, maybe her mother felt something other than greed; maybe affection or guilt. She knew Nina loved the necklace, but dividing it in half might have meaning. In the musical, Annie thinks finding her parents will mend her broken heart. Maybe her mom meant it literally. Maybe she’s sending a message from the grave that Nina didn’t miscarry; that her child is alive somewhere.

Jordan asks Curtis, how is this not a dead end? Curtis says, she heard him. Madeline hired a private nurse, not to mention a doctor. Where there’s money, there’s a trail.

Sonny tells Jason that his dad overheard when he was talking to Carly. He was upset, but not disoriented. He knew what happened, and that if the body was uncovered, Sonny could be implicated. Jason says Mike seemed okay when he got there. Sonny says he told Mike that he has resources to handle it. Jason says, that’s true, but Sonny says, a lot could still go wrong.

Kristina congratulates Julian. She bets the renovation is going to keep him busy. He might need help. He says he’ll be busy managing the contractor, and won’t have time to do interviews. She can have a job on one condition – that she start now.

Mike sneaks downstairs in Charlie’s, and looks around with a flashlight. He sees some pipes, and takes out a wrench.

On Monday, Valentin says Madeline was telling the truth, Michael gets a letter from Nelle, And Mike tells Kristina that she’s not supposed to be there.

💀 I saw the first episode of The Purge (USA), and thought it was pretty good. Part of it focused on a group that was working on purge night, and I thought, that would be my luck. Stuck at the office. I liked the second and third movie (haven’t seen the fourth), but I wasn’t crazy about the first one. I think it’s a very scary concept, but that blond guy talked so much, I thought I could have killed him ten times while he was going on and on. This is a good choice for a series, since there’s a wealth of stories that can be pried out of it.

🏈 On September 24th, Bravo will premiere it’s new show, Bravo Play by Play hosted by Jerry O’Connell. Originally, it was supposed to be called Real Men Watch Bravo, which I thought was brilliant, but since we’re living in a super-sensitive society now, it was changed. Enough already. They showed a snippet on Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live, and it looked great. It’s not The People’s Couch (what happened to that?), but I’ll take it. Jerry was a guest that night, along with LuAnn (The Real Housewives of NYC), who wore the outfit she would have worn had she attended the reunion. It was fabulous and sparkly. Andy took a poll on the best NYC reunion outfit, and I was pleased that everyone agreed with me that it was Bethenny. I wouldn’t mind a dress-up box with all of the reunion outfits in it.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

The Real Housewives of Dallas

At her Bubbles and Bru party, Stephanie introduces their favorite ginger family. Brandi takes the mic, and says they’re honored to share the news with all of them about the new baby. Stephanie had everything to do with it, and she loves her. She thanks everyone for being there. LeeAnne is like, what? D’Andra is in total shock, thinking they were getting a divorce. Kameron wonders why they kept it a secret. Brandi asks to talk to LeeAnne in private. In her interview, Brandi says she doesn’t want to live her life fighting over nonsense. She wants LeeAnne to know she’s at a positive place and wants to start fresh. LeeAnne says she felt like they had a friendship, and was devastated. She didn’t know what to expect. At the reunion, Brandi had said she didn’t see a future for them. We flash back to that. She wants find a way to move forward. In her interview, LeeAnne says if Cary is willing to give her a second chance, she should give Brandi one. She tells Brandi they should take the good they had and move forward with it. They hug. Kameron doesn’t know what’s happening. They’re all getting along. Maybe it’s a magical baby, taking all the negativity out of the air.

LeeAnne tells Kameron about her talk with Brandi. Kameron thinks they’re all in a good place, and should go to Beaver Creek in Colorado. Her husband has built a place there. She tells everyone about her idea. In her interview, Brandi says she’s had three hours of sleep since Bruin arrived, and she needs a girls trip.

D’Andra congratulates Brandi. They laugh about how the baby looks like her. Brandi says podcast where S’Andra mentioned Adderall bothered her. She felt attacked. D’Andra says the podcast wasn’t about her, only abuse of the drug in general, but Brandi says D’Andra had been talking about her. In her interview, Cary says D’Andra already told her it was about Brandi, but she’s too chicken sh*t to admit it. D’Andra says that around Dallas, people are taking it like candy. In her interview, D’Andra says she didn’t mention names. She just said Adderall was abused in Dallas. Brandi doesn’t like to be accused of what didn’t do, and says she has a valid source who told her about it. Cary joins them. D’Andra says they’re good. Cary admits to having a conversation with Brandi about it. In her interview, D’Andra affirms she told Cary about Brandi. She says Cary made it worse by telling Brandi. Her issue isn’t with Cary though. She thinks Brandi should have asked her directly, instead of relying on what someone else said. Enjoy your baby and your Adderall. Okay. If she’s so innocent, why would she say it like that? These chicks get mean when they get caught. Brandi isn’t taking it because it’s party time.

Kameron tells Cary that she doesn’t have to be fancy in Colorado. She’s excited about the trip. She sends pajamas to everyone to wear on the private jet. PJs on the pj. Stephanie is also going to Italy, and packing for both trips. She’s doing half the trip to Colorado, and then going to Italy with the family. Brandi talks about D’Andra deflecting and not owning it.

D’Andra isn’t thrilled to go on the trip. She tells Jeremy that obviously Brandi has a problem and is making her look like a bully. This is what happens when you don’t communicate one on one. She says Cary isn’t helping the situation. She’s going to Colorado because she committed to the trip, but she’s not getting pulled into anything.

The Westcott family jet is ready to go. Brandi pops champagne. D’Andra isn’t wearing he PJs. She thinks her butt looks too big in pink stripes, and doesn’t cave to peer pressure when her ass is involved. In her interview, Kameron says she had the monogrammer on call; D’Andra better put them on. She passes out an itinerary, and tells them a private chef is coming. Brandi is going to miss the baby, but looking forward to sleeping in and having some drinks.

They head to Beaver Liquors. It took Kameron a while to get why people laughed about the name. I understand this, since it took me a while to understand why people were up in arms over Brooke Shields’s Calvin Klein ad. I thought she just really liked her jeans. The girls have a laugh over the novelty T-shirts. Brandi gets a naughty poster to hang up at Kameron’s house as a prank. Stephanie says, when you bring immature people to a place called Beaver Liquors, it’s to be expected. D’Andra starts drinking in the store.

No surprise, the house is fabulous. LeeAnne calls it architecturally stunning. It’s like log cabin meets Tudor, and over 11,000 square feet. There’s even a bowling alley. Kameron says, it’s like an adult slumber party. She was the queen of slumber parties as a child, until she got lice from sharing a pillow. The girls compare the elevator to the one in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Cary picks out her favorite toilet for pooping later.

Brandi wants to hang the poster in Kameron’s room. Stephanie wants her to have a god time with them. Brandi thinks every time she plays a prank, the stick in Kameron’s ass comes out a little more. D’Andra says, it’s the calm before the storm, and Kameron wonders what’s going to happen next. In her interview, Stephanie thinks if they bother Kameron enough, she’ll realize they’re fun and it’s okay to be stupid. Kameron finds the poster taped to her bed, and says, this is not okay. It is pretty rude, but not horrible. She comes out saying, what is this? In her interview, she says they want to get a rise out of her to see what she’ll do.

Stephanie asks if she likes it. In her interview, Brandi says Kameron secretly loves her. It’s like flirting when Kameron gives her a hard time. Brandi says Kameron’s liquor store sold it; she’s just honoring them. In her interview, Brandi expected Kameron to be more annoyed. She sees a glimmer of hope. LeeAnne thinks it’s just their sense of humor. D’Andra tells Kameron to act unphased. We flash back to Brandi’s various pranks. D’Andra says there are plenty things to be mad about, but this isn’t one of them. LeeAnne offers to teach Kameron meditation.

Stephanie and Brandi play in the snow, and I’m jealous. Kameron tries to mediate, but keeps laughing. She has a hard time sitting still and taking it seriously. LeeAnne agrees it’s hard not to think about fashion while clearing your mind. Cary brings them (I think) daquiris, and joins in. LeeAnne tells them to focus on breathing. She taps the bowl, and tells them let go of their thoughts. Kameron starts laughing again.

Kameron tells us that house manager Sophia is like Mary Poppins, and found an amazing chef. They sit down to dinner. Stephanie would rather have a conversation with D’Andra one on one, without a lot of opinions. Everyone has something to say about everything. The salad is served, and LeeAnne says, they don’t make this at Costco. Kameron wants them to know she’s fun. She’s brought out a game where you pick a card, and answer the question on it. Everyone is drinking, and LeeAnne just has water, but she says she’s good with that. In her interview, she’s afraid if she drinks too much, she’ll be vulnerable to being offended by stupidity. She’s not interested in opening herself up like that at this point. They do tequila shots, and the chef serves short ribs.

Kameron can’t believe Stephanie has a baby. She says Stephanie didn’t even blink while telling her tall tale. She could have just said she had surprise, instead of making her look like an idiot. Believe me, it’s not her tall tale that did that. In her interview, Kameron says she felt left out. I’m not sure why, since Cary is the only one that knew. Stephanie apologizes. Brandi takes the blame. Cary wants another drink. Kameron says she’s happy for Brandi. She loves games, but it wasn’t the game she wanted to play. In her interview, Cary says arguing with Kameron is frustrating. Her brain goes on repeat. She tells Kameron not to be a badger. Kameron reads from a card, asking, what reveals most about a person’s sexual skills; they way they drink, dance, or kiss? Brandi asks Kameron to kiss her, saying she has the best lips. Kameron says that’s sweet, but no. Brandi says she’s only been with one person. Kameron could be number two.

Brandi comes to Kameron’s side of the table. She says she knows Kameron doesn’t like her. Kameron says they’d just met, and Brandi chased her on the beach with a giant chocolate dildo. We flash back to that. Brandi grabs Kameron, and kisses her. D’Andra asks if Brandi is making up with her, and Brandi says she’ll make out.

They go out to the hot tub. Cary gets nakey. Kameron asks where her bathing suit is. In her interview, Kameron says, first, Brandi wants to make out; then Brandi and Cary get naked. Is she that irresistible? LeeAnne says she’s going to bed early. Too many shots and naked tw*ts spell trouble. In her interview, Cary feels like something is off with LeeAnne. She hopes the meditation helps her behavior. She thinks you can be fun and respectful at the same time.

D’Andra thinks LeeAnne is being reserved, and that she’s had too much to drink. Kameron asks if D’Andra felt left out. Cary thinks it’s stupid.  Brandi says if she doesn’t want to explain herself, she’s not attacking anyone. In her interview, Brandi says instead of celebrating, Kameron is making her feel like sh*t because she didn’t tell her. Kameron says she felt like she wasn’t really Brandi’s friend. Stephanie tells Kameron not to bash Brandi about adopting a baby. Kameron says she would never do that, and don’t put words in her mouth. Brandi leaves the room, and Cary follows her. Stephanie tells Kameron to quit making Brandi feel bad because didn’t know.

Brandi cries in the bedroom, and Cary comforts her. Kameron insists that’s not what she said. In her interview, Stephanie says Kameron shouldn’t bash Brandi about adopting a baby, but Kameron heard something different. She wants to live in her world where she’s a victim. In her interview, Kameron says Stephanie is staying in her home and accusing her of bashing Brandi for adopting a baby. Don’t put words in her mouth. Brandi wants to go home. Stephanie joins them. In her interview, Brandi thinks it’s a lot. She doesn’t owe Kameron anything, and didn’t think they were that close.

Kameron doesn’t understand why Stephanie is putting words in her mouth. Cary is right about her brain going on repeat. She was talking about Brandi’s behavior. Stephanie says it’s Kameron’s house, and as a classy woman, she should make Brandi feel comfortable and safe; not having to tell her that she’s sorry all night. Brandi says she has better things to do, like get out of there. Kameron doesn’t want Stephanie in her house right now.

Next time, Kameron wants Stephanie to leave, more fun in the snow, and D’Andra tells LeeAnne to get her act together with Rich.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Mike and Sonny watch a baseball game on TV. Sonny asks if Mike knows the new rules, but Mike says baseball is baseball. He goes upstairs, and Felix tells Sonny that they sounded like a son and his dad. Sonny guesses they did.

Jason tells Carly, one more game. They can have more time to decompress. Carly says there’s a lot going on, especially with Michael. He needs all the support he can get. It’s the worst pain a parent can experience, and he’s still dealing with the Nelle fallout. And then there’s Mike. Seeing his fear and confusion is killing Sonny, but there’s no fixing him. Jason says, not in the long run, but it helps Sonny to use the time left to be with his father. Carly says he feels like he’s getting a new shot. He has so few precious memories from when he was young.

Margaux and Drew walk into The Floating Rib. She wonders if it’s considered a second date if it’s on the same day in the same place. They sit, and she tells him, bring on the wings. Carly says, it looks like someone else is making new memories. Maybe the picture was legit – and the kiss. She tells Jason about their photo in The Invader.

On the phone, Robert tells someone to extend the search radius, and he wants an hourly report. Chase thinks they might have crossed border to Canada. He’s in touch with a local in Niagara Falls. Robert asks if he thinks they got married. Chase says he knows Robert is concerned about Anna, but Finn is his brother, and he’s just as invested. Let him help before it’s too late.

Anna asks Cassandra if she thinks it’s a bluff. One injection brought her out of a coma; one could easily close her eyes again. Cassandra says, Finn is a doctor; he took an oath. Finn says the Hippocratic Oath got a little fuzzy when she drugged him on New Year’s Eve. Anna says, is she going to cooperate, or go back to dreamland?

In the park, Julian instructs Leo on butterfly hunting, telling him that he has to let them go once he catches them. He tells Ava that he’s grateful for the brief time he gets with Leo. Who, I might add, has made an age jump. He’s like, four or five now. Ava says it’s terrible to have to be grateful, and take what you can get. Julian says think about what Brad and Lucas are going through. Ava says if the birth mother wants her son back, what can they do? Maybe she should be asking, what has he done?

Griff jogs by, shirtless, and looks at Ava. He says he didn’t mean to interrupt. Oddly enough, he didn’t interrupt until he said that. Julian says he never does. People just cross his path, and he falls into bed with them, like his niece. Ava says, sooner or later, what you’ve done catches up with you, and Griff says, what makes her think that it hasn’t? Ava suggests Julian go with Leo. She tells Griff that she thought he ran in the morning. He says he used to, before Monica suspended him for violating a patient’s rights by giving them an unauthorized DNA test. He doesn’t’ have to ask who turned him in, does he?

Chase tells Robert he doesn’t want to offend him, but he doesn’t want to be left out. Robert says they have the airports surrounded. There’s no way they can board a plane. Chase says what about smaller airports? They could get a private plane anywhere, and puddle jump to Canada. Robert says, maybe, but Finn was abducted to treat Cassandra. Chase says, and she’s in no condition to travel far. Someone went to a lot of trouble. He asks if there’s been any progress on the ID, and Robert says, no, but maybe they’re going in the wrong direction. Who has an investment in Cassandra staying in a coma. He hangs a picture of the Cassadine family crest on the bulletin board.

Cassandra says Valentin put them up to this. Anna says Valentin’s objectives are a mystery to everyone except him. Is she going to play along or does Finn take her out of the equation altogether? Finn says, goodnight, and starts to put something in her tube.

Sonny tells Felix that he spoke to Stella, and got the same message; to have a talk with his dad. He asks Felix if Mike looks like a man who should live in a facility. Felix is sure Stella meant Sonny should talk with him while he can still understand. Sonny says when he brings it up, Mike thinks he wants to get rid of him. It’s the last thing he wants to do. He loves these moments. He never had them when he was a kid. It felt good. Felix thinks it’s good for the both of them. Sonny says he’s been making the place safe and secure, and Felix says he noticed the Mike’s room sign. He can orient Mike without being obvious. Sonny says he got Mike a tracker. It has a GPS, and if he walks off the grounds, it alerts the guards. Mike comes down with a baseball glove. Felix and Sonny pretend they’re taking about a game. Mike wants to play baseball old school.

Jason asks Carly why she cares what Drew does? She says it seems like he’s getting over Sam. She hopes he knows what he’s doing. Jason says, the DA does.

Margaux asks Drew if it’s weird seeing Jason. He says it’s not like they’re best friends. She says, but he knows Jason better than anyone. It must be strange to have his memories. He says Jason told her he’s not going to turn against Sonny. Next subject. She says it’s just hard to believe. She’s interested in getting to know him, and he says she knows as much about Drew Caine as he does. He fires a bunch of questions at her, like, what’s her favorite color. She asks when a getting to know each other date turned into an interrogation. Margaux says her life reads like a resume, but Drew says, every life has a story. She says, Jersey girl, given a full ride at NYU, married the wrong guy in college. He came from a wealthy family, and had a tragic lack of imagination. She learned after they were married that all he wanted to do was maintain the status quo. She wanted more. He ended up married to a country club girl, and she went to Stanford law, and paid her dues as a DA. His turn. He says it’s hard tell her anything. His memories before 2014 are Jason’s. She says it’s hard to believe. He says since he decided he’s not getting his memories back, he accepts it. Changing the subject, he says she could have taken a job at a big firm. She asks if they really make the best margaritas here. He says they’re amazing, and goes to the bar.

Carly has a bad feeling. Jason says, that makes two of us. Margaux made it clear she’s going after Sonny, and she doesn’t care how or who she uses. Supposedly Drew remembers every job Jason did for Sonny. Carly asks if Margaux is looking for evidence against him.

Coming back inside, Sonny says it’s been a while since he played catch. He used to sit on the stoop and watch the fathers come home and grab the mitts. He stops, and Mike tells him to go on. Sonny says, then they’d go in for dinner. Mike thinks they should head to the city, and see a game at Yankee Stadium. Sonny says he used to promise that all the time. Mike says now they can do it, and Sonny says, it’s a deal.

Ava tells Griff, yeah, she told Monica, and showed her proof. She shows him her phone, and says she took a picture of the results when he was in the shower. Something told her to keep a record. He says he told her in confidence. She says she was going to delete it a dozen times, but didn’t. Something in her didn’t trust his loving words and their tender moments. She suspected it couldn’t last; that she was fooling herself. It turned out, she was right.

Cassandra tells Finn to stop. She’ll do what they want. Anna tells her to pretend she’s unconscious, and steal a look to see if she knows or recognizes them. They hear someone coming, and Cassandra closes her eyes. It’s Carson and his number two. He’s got the medication Finn wanted. Finn asks, what took so long? If it isn’t administered in time, they’ll all be dead.

Jason tells Drew that the DA is after Sonny, and she’ll use anybody – Carly, Josslyn, even him – to do it. Drew says what she wants is for Jason to flip on Sonny. She’s working hard at it. He’s sure Jason has seen the cover of The Invader.

Margaux approaches Carly. She says it’s nice to see her out and about. She’s sorry about Carly’s grandchild. It must be a comfort to have her back. Carly asks if she’s expecting a thank you, and Margaux says, not unless it’s sincere. She tells Carly that she hates injustice. That’s why she didn’t fight the judge about letting her go. She also hates defendants using bogus pleas to circumvent the law. Carly says she hates when women use sex to get information. It sends the wrong message. Or is it just a coincidence that she’s hot and heavy with Drew? Jason and Drew are both there, and Margaux asks if they should all just grab table – or not.

Sonny says it’s nice to throw the ball like they used to. Mike says it was fun, but he’s tired. He thinks he’ll lie down before dinner. They’ll do it again tomorrow. Sonny says, sounds good. Mike goes up the creakiest stairs I’ve ever heard. Felix says maybe Sonny is right, and Mike belongs at home after all. He’s holding on to the memories of them playing ball; that’s great. Sonny says, although it never happened.

Griff tells Ava that she’s fooling herself. What they had, was real. He doesn’t care that she reported him; he deserves suspension. He violated his oath. Ava tells him not to try putting the halo back on his head. She didn’t do it to protect a patient’s privacy. She figured he’d get suspended, and he’d lose something he cares about. It’s the Ava he never understood. She doesn’t want forgiveness. She wants him to hurt like she does.

Julian asks if Leo is ready to go. He asks what’s wrong, and Leo whispers something in his ear. He says his mom must have told him about his cousin in heaven. He imagines there are special toys in heaven. That’s why they picked out some of Leo’s stuff for other babies enjoy. Julian tells Leo, as special a place as heaven might be, don’t worry. He won’t go there for a long time. Neither will Julian. He hugs Leo.

Chase says, it’s the Cassadine crest, and Robert says Valentin has ties to Cassandra. Somebody thought they’d liberate her from the Bureau, but when Valentin was questioned, he seemed surprised. Maybe even worried that she’d gone missing. Chase gets a text, and says they might have a breakthrough. Whoever broke Cassandra out wants Finn to cure her. He’ll require drugs, so Chase ran a check. Someone just used Finn’s pharmacy code, north of Canada. Two cameras got shots of the car and license plates. Robert says, well done. Let’s go.

Finn says he did guess work on the dosage, but it should minimize any damage done by exposure. He holds a tray with four paper cups of liquid on it. He explains that Cassandra will get a concentrated dose, and hands out the cups, Carson says, ladies first; drink up. Anna and Finn drink, and Carson and dude follow. Carson says, that’s it? and Finn says, it’s fast acting; they should be all set. Carson and other guy keel over. Finn asks, did he happened to mention the side effects?

Finn tells Anna that they both got water. Cassandra asks if they’re dead. She says she doesn’t know them. Finn tells Anna that they need to go. Cassandra asks if they’re leaving her, and Anna says she’s better off waiting while they get help. Cassandra doesn’t want to be sent back to the WSB, and Anna says they’ll treat with the same amount of compassion that she treated them.

Felix gets a text from his relief nurse, Hugo. There’s been an accident, and he’s going to be late. Felix says he can stay, but Sonny says he’s done enough. If needs help, his people are just a phone call away. Felix says, when the time comes, he’ll know what do for his dad. Sonny hopes so. Felix leaves, and Sonny says he really hopes so.

Carly says Drew can take care of himself. Jason wonders if he’s a potential liability. Carly says, maybe not. As well as having Jason’s memories, he can draw on his abilities and skills. Jason says, knowing and using are two different things.

Margaux admits the wings pack a punch. Drew loads on hot sauce, and she accuses him of showing off. It’s in a squeezy bottle, and no surprise, he gets some on her blouse. She wonders if it’s payback, but he says it’s a slippery bottle. He says he’ll pay for the cleaning, but she thinks it’s a lost cause. She says it’s a novel way to get her out of her clothes, but he insists he’s a gentleman. They leave.

Sonny gets a call from Diane. He says he has the papers, but they haven’t been signed. The shipping rate is higher than what they settled on. He says he’ll get the papers right now. He leaves the room, and Mike comes down those creaky stairs. He asks if someone is there, and looks confused.

Griff tells Ava if it’s any consolation, he’s hurting like hell. For what he did to her and Kiki, and for the patients he cares about; the ones he’s treating and the ones he won’t get chance to help. Ava never said he wasn’t a good doctor. He says, just not a good boyfriend. She doesn’t have to worry. He’s not going to bother her anymore. Julian runs up with Leo in his arms. He thinks Leo must have fallen from a tree while chasing a butterfly, but he’s unresponsive to Julian. He asks Griff to do something.

Griff tells Leo to look at him, saying it’s scary, falling out of a tree. Julian babbles, but Griff continues talking to Leo, asking if he can breathe, and to show him. He asks Leo to hold his water bottle. I guess to make sure his grip is okay. He checks out Leo’s knee, and says it looks like it hurts, but it’s not deep. He asks Leo about the butterfly he was chasing, and suggests he stick to the ground from now on. He tells Julian that the fall gave Leo a scare, but he’ll be all right. Julian asks if Leo is really okay, and Griff says he’s currently not a licensed physician. Julian should get him checked out, but he doesn’t think Leo hit his head; he’s just shaken up. Ava says it was lucky he was there, and Julian thanks him. He says they should get Leo a security blanket, and Leo says, like the yellow one he put in Jonah’s room?

Carly tells Jason that she called Margaux out. She can’t believe it. Never mind, it could get Margaux disbarred, but it’s demeaning. Jason says, really? Carly knows she’s guilty of using sex to get what she wants, but that was before she was a mother. Jason says, it’s their business, and Carly says, what if she gets Drew to flip on him? Jason says he would need to have a really good memory. He doesn’t think Drew would help Margaux anyway. Besides, Diane is the best, and can always get him off. Carly says she’s not worried, but she’s keeping an eye on Drew. They leave.

Anna and Finn sneak around. Finn says, they’re going to be cranky when they wake up. Anna tries a door, and it’s locked. He says she’s with the WSB; can’t she use a bobby pin or something? She asks if he’s serious.

Back at the hotel, Margaux tells Drew the laundry service has pulled off miracles before. He doesn’t want the night to end like this, and asks if she wants to go for a drink. They can see who has the better margaritas. She thinks that’s a good idea, and goes to change. He looks through her papers on the table, and finds the flash drive.

Mike says, this isn’t right. He thought he heard… He looks outside and sees someone, probably a guard, walk past. He asks, who’s there? and says, they’re trying to break in. He can’t let them do that. He presses a button on the device he’s carrying, and an alarm goes off. It’s loud, and seems to be coming from everywhere. He yells, nooo!

Anna gets the door open. Robert and Chase are on the other side. Robert has his gun drawn, and says, don’t shoot. He can’t believe it’s Anna, and hugs her. Chase and Finn nod at each other. Anna asks how he found them, and he says Chase gave them luck. Finn thanks him. They all go back to the examining room. The guys on the floor are still out, but Cassandra is gone.

Cassandra sits in the back seat of a car. Someone gets in and she asks what they want from her. They place a hand on her knee, and they’re wearing a Cassadine crest ring.

Griff asks what blanket Leo is talking about, and Julian says he told Leo about packing Jonah’s things. Julian tell Griff that he owes him one, and leaves with Leo to get him checked out. Ava says sorry to keep Griff from his run, and starts to leave, but Griff stops her. He asks if the yellow blanket is the one that didn’t exist. The one Nelle and Carly were fighting over on the stairs.

Drew picks up the flash drive. Margaux comes back in, and says, don’t touch that. Drew says, why? Is it important?

Jason and Carly run into Sonny’s house. Jason’s gun is drawn. a guy from outside runs in with his gun drawn. Sonny pops out from upstairs with his gun drawn. Mike is surrounded.

On Monday, Curtis, Jordan, and Stella go to family counseling, Margaux says she’ll tell Drew everything, and Griff asks if Ava helped send Carly to Ferncliff.

💍 Keeping Up with the K-1s…

Just a quickie regarding 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, or as I like to call it, the K-1 visa, where the worst people meet. This show is so awful/good that I have to do a once-a-season dissertation about it rather than recap, but now and then I can’t help but comment. In last week’s episode, Jesse came to the US to visit the woman he’s stringing along the love of his life, Darcy, and to meet her two teenage daughters. Who, no doubt, he has more in common with, considering the huge age gap. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but he keeps bringing up that he’s only twenty-four. These two boggle my mind. They’ve been on again/off again for a couple of seasons now, and at this point, I can’t see what they get out of it. After being sorely disappointed when Jesse gave her a promise ring at the end of her trip to Amsterdam – yes, a promise ring, like middle-schoolers exchange – Darcy is still expecting a real proposal. He got down on one knee to give it to her, which turned my stomach. As much as I think Darcy is a drama queen, no woman deserves that embarrassment.

Jesse has made it clear that he doesn’t want her daughters getting too attached at this point in the relationship, and that he balks at being a stepfather at his age. Yet Darcy still pulled him in for a family hug. I get that she’s delusional and thinks he’s hot, but couldn’t he find someone to control a little closer to home? I did feel marginally sorry for him at the beginning of the trip. Deciding to stay in NYC and have her girls visit there on her birthday, Darcy and Jesse took a limo from the airport. Since it was his first time visiting the US, Jesse was naturally interested in his surroundings during the ride. There is no other way to put it other than Darcy was jealous of that interest. She did not want to play tour guide, and couldn’t understand why he wasn’t focused totally on her. She also left him sitting in a restaurant, during one of their nonsensical arguments, where she flailed around while he did his Data imitation. Or the guy from SNL’s Sprockets skit. On the other hand, he’s such a control freak, maybe he deserves what he gets. Which, according to the previews, is a lot of drama. Are they still together? Who knows? And if you wait five minutes, it will be who knows again.

👹 So When is This Happening Already???

The highlight of my week was when the Sy-we-can’t-spell-Fy channel aired reruns of Z Nation. Which tells you how my week went. Although it’s been renewed for a fifth season, all we keep hearing is in the fall.  So is that Labor Day fall or Thanksgiving fall?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny and Mike arrive at Alexis’s house. Mike gives her flowers, and Sonny thanks her for the invite. Carly has to deal with something involving Josslyn, and can’t be there. Alexis says he didn’t have to come; she’s sorry for his loss. Bobbie arrives, and says it’s a lovely gesture, but Alexis needs to call it off. A banner says welcome to the family

On the phone, Julian says he’s expanding the building, not tearing down a city block. He’s going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Like that means anything. A man approaches him, saying he’s from the City of Port Charles Safety Bureau. He has bad news.

At Charlie’s, Drew accuses Margaux of following him. He asks if she called his assistant to see where he’d be. She asks if she has to tell him again to get over himself. He says, no, but she can tell him why she talked to Jason about him.

Valentin comes home to find Peter there. It’s like a surprise revolving door at Windemere. He asks if Peter is there to finish what Obrecht started. Peter says Windemere is safe – from him at least. Valentin says it’s good to see him. Peter asks if he’s sure about that. Valentin owes him and he’s there to collect.

In a prison visiting room, Maxie tells Nina that she doesn’t have to be there. Nina says she has to do this. Nathan would have wanted her to. He’d be the bigger person, but Nina says she’s not that big. Donna Mills… I mean, Madeline comes out in her orange that’s the new black.

Bobbie tells Alexis that she wants to celebrate her new grandson, but the adoption isn’t final until thirty days is up. Sonny says it’s just a formality, but Bobbie says Brad and Lucas will think it’s a jinx. Sam asks if the birth mother wouldn’t have said something by now if she wanted the baby back. Alexis says it’s typically just after the birth, but she doesn’t think a party will make or break the adoption. Bobbie agrees, but says Brad and Lucas won’t, and they’re the parents. Brad and Lucas come in with the baby. Brad asks, what are they doing?

Valentin tells Peter, when Peter wasn’t on the jet he’d chartered, he thought Peter lost faith in him and made other arrangements. He had no idea Obrecht was holding him captive. Peter says it worked out for the best. Valentin knows Peter isn’t a martyr. Peter says it’s true he was tortured for a week, but if he’d escaped, he’d be a fugitive, and could never come back. The WSB and local authorities decided not to prosecute. He can live openly in Port Charles. Valentin thinks that’s a bad idea. Peter says, for Valentin, but not for him.

Madeline is glad Nina is staying. Maxie asks how long she can be in the same room, and Nina isn’t sure. Madeline asks if she doesn’t want to see how far her mother has fallen. Nina says she’d rather not think of her at all. She’s here supporting Maxie. Maxie says she’s here for Nathan, not for Madeline. Madeline says she petitioned for a furlough, but she never got to say goodbye. She read about the funeral online. Obrecht might have been playing mother, but she raised him, and was responsible for the great man he became. Nina says she did inspire him. She gave him a purpose. He lived his life in danger to serve justice. When he found out Nina had been in a coma, little did he know it was Madeline who put her in one. It’s fitting and fair that she wasn’t able to go, and be allowed to see her son. She hopes Madeline feels half the pain she did, when she woke up and found out her child was dead because of her mother. And she’ll never be able to have another.

Safety Guy tells Julian expansion would be dangerous.

Margaux tells Drew that she was under the impression he and his brother aren’t close. Drew says they’re not. She says, yet Jason ran to him after they spoke. It was nothing nefarious. She just pointed out that Drew chose to be a law-abiding citizen, when he’d just been detained for breaking a patient out of Ferncliff at gunpoint. Drew asks if she was encouraging Jason to be more like him? She says she wants to use his brother to get closer to his boss. She wants to take out Sonny Corinthos.

Brad thought they were here so Sam could spend more time with Wiley. Sonny says he wanted to meet his nephew. Brad says he’s not officially theirs. He doesn’t like tempting fate. Sam says, hold on. They asked her to be Wiley’s godmother, so they must think she has something important to offer. She says they’re being ridiculous. They says they’re waiting for the thirty days to be up, but they’re not fooling anyone. They fell in love the first second they laid eyes on the baby. She tells them not to postpone their feelings. Sonny says they can be happy, or let the rest of them be happy. Mike says he and Sonny made lasagna, and for the first time ever, didn’t argue. A new baby can erase years of bickering. How can it be anything but good luck? Lucas says Mike always knows the right thing to say. He tells Brad, all the love in the room is for Wiley. Some of them set aside their grief. Sonny says he’ll always be there for them, for Wiley. Brad says, okay. Let the festivities begin.

Maxie wants to get the visit over with and get out asap. Maxie tells Madeline she got her messages asking her to come, and asked herself, what would Nathan do? He always saw the good in everyone, no matter what. Madeline is his family, so she made a video montage of James. Madeline says it’s more than she’d hoped for; Maxie is too kind. Nina says, damn straight. Nina says it was staggering that Madeline wasn’t prosecuted for taking twenty years of her life, and destroying any chance she had of motherhood. Madeline says she has regrets. Maxie says she’s here where she belongs. She’ll never have what they do. She’ll never see or hold James. He’s theirs. She’ll only see videos. Madeline says she just wants a glimpse. Maxie shows her the video on her laptop. Madeline tells Nina that she sees her brother in him. Nina says he looks exactly like Nathan did. When she holds him, she thinks back to their Manhattan apartment, in the nursery. She would hold him and think about the life he’d have, but he’s gone. James is still here.

Peter says he’s sorry to inconvenience Valentin. Valentin says if he’s staying to rekindle things with Maxie, it’s a lost cause. Peter says the only lost cause is his. He and Nina talked in the cabin. Nina’s baby was stolen, and she can’t think of anything worse. He has a better chance at being in Maxie’s life than Valentin has being in Nina’s.

Sonny holds the baby. Mike says he sees Carly in him. Sonny doesn’t think so; Wiley isn’t related to them. Bobbie asks Sam if Michael is coming. Sam says she invited him, but told him she’d understand if he didn’t come. She hopes he doesn’t push himself. Lucas tells Brad it seems unfair for them to be happy, when Michael isn’t. He wonders how the universe decides. Brad hopes Michael doesn’t come – for his sake. No surprise, Michael walks in.

Julian tells Safety Guy that his was one of the few properties in the neighborhood that sustained no damage in the earthquake. Safety Guy says where he planned to add on, is dangerous. Julian says, after he’s been turned down or overbid by every contractor? If there’s a fissure, he wants to see it. Show him. Safety Guy says, it’s underground. The only way to see it is with ultrasound. Julian says, right.

Drew tells Margaux that every new DA that’s come to town sets their sights on Sonny. She says she’ll succeed where others have failed, and put him away for good. He tells her, good luck. She says she doesn’t have much use for luck, but she believes in asking for help. She wants Drew to help her.

Madeline says James is precious. Maxie says, she’s right. Madeline tells Nina, it’s her brother all over again. She tells Maxie that she sees the both of them too. She wonders if he’s as well-behaved as Nathan was; he hardly ever fussed. Nina says she worked it out so her visits were just after his nap; he could be a terror. Maxie doesn’t believe it, and Nina says he would scream when put down for a nap. Not a sad cry; a mad cry. She was the only one who could quiet him. Madeline says she was so good with him. She would have made a wonderful mother. Nina says, is she kidding? Madeline says it took too long for her to realize how horribly she wronged Nina. She doesn’t expect Nina to believe her – she doesn’t deserve it – but she wants Nina to know with every breath, she’s so sorry for the pain she caused. She starts to cry.

Valentin tells Peter that Nina will forgive him. He has something in works. Peter says, even if she does, she’ll never get past Valentin giving him to his father out of revenge. Valentin used him; a helpless infant. How would he feel if it was Charlotte? Valentin says he’s thought about what Peter’s father did to him. He’s thought of little else since Nina left. He’s sorry. Peter says those are weak words. Valentin doesn’t know how else to say it. Peter says, show him that he’s willing to make up for what he did. Valentin says, on one condition.

Drew asks why Margaux thinks he’s going to help her take Sonny down. She says when he mistakenly thought he was Jason, he distanced himself from Sonny. He understands the danger, and didn’t want his kids never knowing if their father would be in prison or dead. She wants that too. She wants to rid the city of organized crime. Together, they can do that, and make Port Charles a better place. What does he say?

Mike repeats that the baby looks like Carly, and Sonny says he told him that it’s not their baby. Brad and Lucas are his parents. Mike says, except he looks just like Carly. A nervous Brad takes the baby. Sam goes with Mike to check on the lasagna. Bobbie asks Michael if he’s sure he wants to be there, and he says, there’s no better medicine than being with family. Sonny is proud of him. Michael says Sonny got him through the hardest time. He thanks Sonny, and tells Lucas he’s sorry if he was weird at the station.  Lucas says he had a lot going on. Michael says it’s more festive there. He’s so happy for the both of them. Lucas says he didn’t think it was possible to be more excited than the day they brought Wiley home, but his heart keeps expanding. He’s never felt this much purpose. Julian barges in, and tells Sonny that they need to talk,

Alexis suggests they go outside with their problem. They do, and Julian asks Sonny what his problem with the expansion is. Sonny says he doesn’t think enough about Julian to have a problem. Julian says every contractor is too busy or is giving him an astronomical price. Now he got hit with some trumped up safety issue. Sonny says, it sounds like it wasn’t meant to be. He’s the wrong person to be crying to. Julian says he’s not letting it go. Something is going on. It’s no coincidence that Sonny’s father and the original owner are connected.

Sam asks Alexis if she’s okay. Julian had no right to show up at her house. Julian apologizes, and Sam suggests he leave. He asks to take a peek at his grandson, and thanks Brad for letting him hold Wiley. He says looks Wiley different from the picture he took at the hospital. Brad says they change so much in the first months, and Lucas says he looks the same to him. Brad say that’s because they see him all the time. Julian gets out his phone to show them the picture, but Brad bumps into him, blaming his clumsiness on lack of sleep. I’m not getting this, since it’s not like they switched babies after they got him.

Drew tells Margaux, great speech, and wonders how they went from baseball to this. She says, like it or not, he literally knows where the bodies are buried. She’s not saying he’s guilty of every crime he was accused of, but it’s a lot of felonies. Drew tells her that no other DA has been able to prosecute him. Margaux says he has Jason’s memories. He asks why he would bring a bad feeling to his family. What he’s trying isn’t going to work. If she thinks Jason will turn on Sonny, it will never happen. He’ll rot in prison before gives her anything. She says she won’t know until she tries. He tells her, try away, but don’t count on his help.

Valentin hangs up the phone, and tells Peter, it’s arranged. Peter has everything they agreed on, under the condition that he stay away from Nina. Peter says Nina protected him; they reached an understanding. He’ll always be grateful. He’s not going to help her forget. Valentin needs to make it up. Valentin says he’ll worry about that, just keep his distance. Peter agrees, and thanks Valentin for his accommodation.

Nina says Madeline puts on a good show, Madeline says she thought she’d never see Nina again. She’s had years to ponder what she did in pursuit of money. When Reed took over, he owned her, and it was her driving force. She wanted money more than her daughter; more than air. It was a sickness. Nina asks if she’s saying she’s sick. Madeline says it’s not an excuse. There’s no excuse. She couldn’t feel more remorse or regret for being responsible for Nina losing her child. Nina says, and twenty years of her life. When she woke up, all she could think of was the past. It almost destroyed her. She’s changed. She takes responsibility for her actions, and the consequences. She’s defining her own life. Madeline says she’s kept up with what Nina has done. She has a successful career and a handsome husband. She saw a video of him singing to her at the Nurses’ Ball. He has a daughter, so now she can be a mother. She hopes Nina has finally found the happiness and love she deserves. Nina asks if she means that? Maxie thinks Madeline might on her. Madeline asks Nina, on her brother’s name, please believe her. Nina thanks her.

Madeline says she finally sees how much she hurt Nina. She truly does. Nina is an inspiration to her, as she’s counting the days until she sees the parole board. Maxie asks if there’s a chance of her getting out. Madeline says she’s been a model prisoner. She started a therapy group, and got an award for teaching the inmates how be civil to one another. She knows… er, thinks she has a chance, if her daughter and daughter-in-law will attest to her remorse. Wow. That didn’t take long. Nina says she’ll tell the board exactly what she thinks. She thanks Madeline for reminding her what a master manipulator she is. Maxie says thanks for giving her a reason not to visit. Madeline doesn’t understand. Nina says she’s slipping. It was a ploy to get her to help. Maxie says it’s the last she’ll ever see of James. Don’t contact her again, or she’ll tell the parole board how much Madeline hasn’t changed. Nina says she’d tell her to go to hell, but she’s already in it.

Margaux says Port Charles will be a better place for children. It’s a shortcut to a bright future. He suggests she do it the old-fashioned way, with interviews, investigation, and research. If she’s as good as she says… Margaux says she needs evidence. He has it. He asks if that’s why she’s been following him. She asks if he really thinks her mustard aim is that good. He thinks her game needs work. She made some big assumptions. The first one being that this sci/fi is true, and that he knows everything. She says there’s still evidence out there. Drew says she’ll get laughed out of court. She’s wasting both their time. She tells him to wait. Peter has walked in while they were talking.

Mike says a baby changes your whole world. Michael holds Wiley. Mike says he sees Michael can’t stand to be separated from his boy. He was like that with Michael’s dad too, but he let things get in the way. He tells Michael not to make that mistake with his son. Michael says, not a chance. Bobbie asks Mike if he doesn’t have something in the oven. When he dashes off, she tells Michael that she’s sorry; he’s confused. Michael says, it’s okay; he’s a good man. Now Mike is breaking my heart when he’s not even in the room.

Alexis’s answers the phone, and says, what is it? She asks if it’s definite, and says she’ll speak to her clients. She looks at Brad and Lucas. Geez, maybe that party was a jinx. Julian asks what’s going on, like it’s his business. Brad says, what’s with the long face? Alexis says something happened.

Margaux tells Drew that their first meeting was chance. She does like baseball. She also enjoyed spending time with him. She got to know him, and thought he could help. He says she was wrong. She kisses him, and says, not quite. She jets, and he doesn’t seem that thrilled about the kiss.

Nina and max come in to Charlie’s. Maxie says sorry for dragging Nina there. Nina says her mom is a master manipulator. Speaking of which… They approach Peter’s table. Nina wonders what he’s doing there. He has no friends, no job, and every door has been slammed in his face. He says, a door opened. He’s now the new publisher and owner of The Invader. Maxie says it’s a gossip rag, but he says not anymore. He’s going to make it a source of information to be trusted. Maxie should join him there.

Madeline hears the visitor door open, and thinks Nina has come back. It’s Valentin. She says, Nina’s husband.

Alexis tells Brad and Lucas that she needs to speak with them in private. Lucas says she can talk in front of the family. She says the birth mother’s attorney said she’s decided not to terminate her parental rights. She wants the baby back.

If I was Brad, I’d act all innocent and point in Nelle’s direction when it comes out that this is Michael’s baby. They’d probably be blaming her right away anyway, and she was wearing scrubs to sneak out of the hospital. Maybe she made a stop first. And If Nelle said I was in on it, I’d just call her a liar. This would totally work.

On Monday, Valentin asks Madeline if Nina had a daughter, Peter wants to poach Lulu, and Margaux calls Drew an egomaniac.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Chase goes to the interrogation room. Jason is there. Chase says all of the senior officers warned him Jason was impossible to question. Lucky for him, it’s not his case, but the DA wants to meet with him.

Margaux tells Drew the game had integrity. He says it was too long. You could smoke cigarette between innings. She asks if he smokes, and he says, no; does she? She calls it a filthy habit, and he says at least they agree on something.

At Ferncliff, an orderly tells Doc there hasn’t been a peep all morning from the patient. Doc says he’s going on a new medication, and make sure to administer it. The orderly says it bring him out of his haze. That’s what Doc wants, and the orderly says he could be dangerous. Doc says he’ll be back to have a chat with the patient.

Carly asks Sonny how Mike is. Sonny says, good, and Carly says it was scary. Sonny tells her these things happen. She asks if Mike has fallen before, but Sonny says he’s just had lapses. She asks if they’ve been more frequent. He guesses they have, and she tells him she’s been looking at the pamphlets. He says he’s read them cover to cover, and he’s not ready yet. He looks at Mike sitting outside.

Griff is sworn in. Ava texts, what’s going on? to Franco. Scotty texts Franco, warn Alexis. Franco texts, Kiki and Griffin had sex, but instead of sending it to Alexis, he sends it to Ava. Elizabeth tells him to put his phone away, like he’s five. Franco says he had to get Alexis. Alexis texts, stop texting. Franco realizes what he’s done, and asks Elizabeth how you unsend a text. Ava looks at him.

Franco texts, J/K, to Ava. Alexis says Griff, Kiki, and David are colleagues at GH. She asks if he socializes with David. Griff says, no, and she says what about Kiki. He says, yes; he’s seeing Kiki’s mother. Scotty starts loudly coughing and hacking, saying it’s allergies. He asks for a recess, and the judge tells him, tough it out. The judge asks what Franco is doing, and Franco says he’s live tweeting. The judge says, not in this courtroom, and asks where his press pass is. Franco says he’s independent. The judge says he’s out of order, and Franco gets thrown out of the room.

Josslyn goes to Kelly’s with Cameron. He tells her that if it wasn’t for him, all the losers would be hitting on her. He wouldn’t run interference if Oscar was around. He asks where Oscar has been, and if Josslyn is still mad at him.

Margaux tells Drew a person is nothing without beliefs. He says, truth. Justice, and the American way. She says she got into law to pursue justice. She knows what’s fair. She thinks he has a story, and he says, doesn’t everyone? She tells him a young man is trying to get his attention. He motions Oscar over, and introduces them. They make small talk, and Margaux thanks Drew for the lunch, saying, it was enlightening. When she’s gone, Oscar asks how Drew knows her. He says they’re mutual fans of the Woodchucks. Oscar asks if they’re friends, and Drew says he hopes so. She’s the DA, and he doesn’t want to be on her bad side.

Chase tells Jason the DA has decided not to pursue charges against Peter. They have a case for fraud, but no one would benefit from a long trial. The WSB is a different story. They have enough to lock him up until the end of time. He asks if Jason has any idea why they didn’t, and Jason says they don’t consult with him. Chase asks how this is okay with him; they took five years of his life. Jason says, the time is gone. Chase asks if he doesn’t want justice, but Jason says he just wants to get on with his life. Chase doesn’t know how that will work. He broke Carly out of Ferncliff, and threatened the staff with a gun. Those are both major felonies.

Sonny tells Carly that Mike’s fall was no big deal. Carly says it could have been worse. Sonny says he just has to be more careful with monitoring Mike. Carly says she can help now that she’s back. Sonny says he’s read the brochures, and there’s nothing Mike can get there that he’s not getting at home. Carly says Sonny needs to discuss Mike’s evolving needs with Mike. Sonny says Mike is his father, and he knows what’s best for him.

Jason thought Chase wasn’t there to interrogate him, since it’s not his case. Chase says the night Jason broke Carly out, he was working with Michael to get Nelle to incriminate herself. The crash had nothing to do with the baby’s death, but it was his plan, his responsibility. There were a thousand other choices he could have made, or he could have got more evidence. Chase tell Jason he just said more than he meant to. Jason says he could have kept his mouth shut about Nelle and his past, but he stepped up to help Carly and Michael. He’s grateful.

Carly says everything is taking it’s toll on Sonny; don’t tell her he’s fine. He’s not. He’s worn out. He asks what she expects? He’s been fighting to get her out of that hellhole, climbing the walls about Nelle and Michael, Ava is on his back about Avery, and Dante leaves, without telling him where he’s going. If he looks tired, it’s because he is. I’ve rarely seen Sonny look like anything except like he just got back from the Bahamas.

Drew suggests he take the afternoon off, and do something with Oscar. Oscar wants to meet with Josslyn, and Drew sees where his priorities lie. Oscar says they haven’t seen a lot of each other, since they’re not working together this summer. Josslyn has been distracted. Drew says she’s had the problems with her mom to deal with, and probably feels badly about being played by Nelle. She needs a shoulder to lean on.

Cameron tells Josslyn that Oscar was moaning that she didn’t text him back. Josslyn says she was busy and couldn’t talk, and Cameron says Oscar was traumatized. Josslyn tells him to take out his earbuds. She says they saw them in the store, and he’d said he couldn’t afford them. She asks if he stole them. He says that’s a loaded word. Does she call it that when she does it?

Alexis says Griff and Kiki were acquaintances at their workplace, and their connection deepened when Griff started seeing Kiki’s mom. Griff says it became more meaningful. Alexis asks if he ever took her to dinner, or gave her gifts, or cornered her, making unwanted advances. Scotty objects, and it’s sustained. Alexis asks him just to help clarify the photo, what led up to it? Griff says he was consoling Kiki after David reprimanded her. Alexis says, so there was nothing sexual? Griff says, not at all. Alexis says, so there’s nothing sexual about their relationship. They have now and always been friends, isn’t that right?

Griff hesitates. The judge tells him to answer the question. The fire alarm goes off, and yep, it’s Franco who pulled it. In the hallway, Lulu is on the phone, saying the trial is stalled until the fire alarm is checked out. Julian tells Ava it’s an interesting turn, and Ava says, interesting timing. Ava tells Franco not to text her about Kiki. Franco says, weird, right? and security comes to escort him out. Ava looks at Kiki.

Margaux tells Chase the DA’s office has a special case for him. It requires sensitive handling; by the book. He says, understood, and Margaux goes in to see Jason, lugging a box of files. She tells him the records department should have built him his own wing. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. They’re going to review it together. He’s a captive audience, and she’ll probably be prosecuting him someday. She suggests they begin in 1996.

Oscar says maybe Josslyn doesn’t want him around. Drew says his first reaction is to retreat and not share. He guesses Josslyn is retreating from everyone, not just him. He tells Oscar to keep doing what he’s doing. Let her know he’s there when she’s ready to open up.

Josslyn tells Cameron shoplifting is stupid. She’s stopped now, and he should too. He says it’s not a capital crime. Why is she embarrassed. She says, isn’t he? He says if he got embarrassed, he wouldn’t be hanging with her; top student and star athlete. She’s not a rule breaker. Josslyn says she knows now that Nelle was lying. She thought her mom was losing her mind, and her grandfather is losing his in a different way.  She didn’t want to think. So she just took a chance and broke the rules. It was selfish and stupid. Cameron says it sounds normal to him. Josslyn says he can’t tell anybody, not even Oscar.

Doc stops by to see Carly. She calls him Dr. Collins, and he says, ouch! That bad? He’s sorry to drop in unannounced, but there’s something he needs – her forgiveness. He underestimated Mary Pat, and had no idea they’d reassign her to Dr. Lasaris so quickly, but when she injected Mary Pat with the sedative he’d prescribed, it wasn’t the best idea. Carly says she had to stop Michael from marrying Nelle. Nelle was going to try to hurt him, and she was right. Now, Michael’s baby is gone. Doc is sorry. That’s the other reason he’s there. He wants her to come back to therapy.

Sonny asks if Mike wants a hand with his jigsaw puzzle. Mike says it’s got him beat. There must be pieces missing. Ha! That’s what I always say. Sonny says they’ll find them, and sits down. He asks how Mike’s head is, and Mike says, fine. Sonny tells him to just say the word if he needs anything. If anything isn’t working working out, he’ll make sure Mike gets whatever he needs; help… or a new place. Mike asks if Sonny is trying to get rid of him.

Mike says he knew come to this, and Sonny would want him out of there. Sonny says that’s not true. Mike thinks Sonny is tired of being embarrassed in front of his friends. Sonny says he’s not embarrassed. Mike says he can pull his own weight; he doesn’t freeload. Sonny says he doesn’t have to do anything. Mike says Sonny wants him not doing anything somewhere else. Sonny tells Mike that he loves him. He loves him living there. That’s not what he meant. If he’s uncomfortable in any way, they can work it out. Mike asks why he’d be uncomfortable in his own home with his family? Sonny is glad they cleared that up. Mike finds a puzzle piece, and asks for lemonade.

Doc asks Carly to hear him out. Carly says she’s since been exonerated. She has no need to see him again. Doc understands her reluctance, but hopes she reconsiders. They were just getting to some of her challenges. He thinks she could benefit from continuing – outpatient only, of course. She says after losing her freedom, she wants to concentrate on her family. Now that the drugs are out of her system, she’s feeling like herself. She was hallucinating big time. She thought she saw him.

The orderly brings in the patient’s medication. We don’t see who he is, but he’s in a straitjacket.

Margaux says before 1996, Jason didn’t have so much traffic there, but afterwards, he was involved in almost every disappearance In the Port Charles area. He had to be responsible for a few. How does it happen that he’s a repeat offender after being the favorite son? If he won’t say it, she will. He went to work for Sonny.

Josslyn says, Oscar doesn’t need to know. He’ll only worry, and she’s not doing it anymore. Oscar appears, and says, doing what. Josslyn says she isn’t overseeing arts and crafts at camp. Cameron says she’s overseeing the volleyball tournament. Oscar is sure Cameron has better things to do. Chase walks in, and asks Josslyn how her mom is. Josslyn says, okay, and he remarks that Cameron’s earbuds look expensive. Cameron says, only the best. Chase introduces himself, and asks if he isn’t one of Elizabeth’s kids. He says the earbuds were stolen. He takes out a picture security gave him, and says Josslyn was with him.

Ava tells Griff that he’s a convincing witness. All he has to do is truth. She says it must be hard, being under so much scrutiny. He says he’ll feel better when it’s over, and Ava says, her too. They can take time, just the two of them, and he can tell her what’s been weighing so heavily on him. Or he can tell her now. He says after the trial, he’ll say what needs to be said. He says he loves her, and she says she knows. Not a good response. Not at all. Griff goes back into the courtroom. Kiki walks up to Ava.

Ava tells Kiki that Griff is a hero. Imagine where she’d be without him; disfigured. And Kiki’s case would be shakier. Kiki says he’s a good person. Ava says so is Kiki. Where Ava would lie, she tells the truth. Where Ava would hurt, Kiki heals. Kiki says they both know she makes mistakes, and Ava asks if there’s anything Kiki would like to tell her. Kiki says, no, and Alexis comes out to get her. Kiki says they’ll talk later. Ava thinks about all the times she’s seen Kiki and Griff in a compromising position.

Alexis says Griff is still under oath. They were discussing his relationship with her client. Are they just friends? Griff says, yes; friends. That’s all.

Cameron tells Chase that’s not him in the photo. It’s way off. He’s taller, and you can’t see the face because the guy is wearing a Woodchuck hat; a lot of people have them. Chase says, like this one? and pulls one out of the air. Chase says he has to check Josslyn’s bag, and she gives it to him. She must have shockingly little in there, since it seems pretty light, and he only takes five seconds to look. He says he didn’t think so, but he had to. He gets ready to escort Cameron out. Josslyn asks if she should come, and Cameron says, don’t worry. Chase tells her, fair or unfair, because of her family, Josslyn is under a lot of scrutiny. He tells her to be careful.

Margaux says if one shred of evidence surfaces, Jason takes the fall. It seems unfair if Sonny ordered it. She realizes she’s wasting her breath, and says, okay, let’s talk about Ferncliff. All the staff members say he had a gun, but there’s nothing to back it up, since he avoided every camera. Impressive. Ferncliff is implicit in an unauthorized medical procedure, which makes the testimonies suspect. He’s free to go. She asks how is it that he and Drew are twins, and they’re nothing alike? She’s not talking about their appearance. Drew is an actual contributing member of society, and Jason is a career criminal. He hasn’t been caught yet, but he will be.

Doc says Carly thought she saw him? She says it was actually the patient next door. He said something that reminded her of the Morse code message he was banging on the wall. He spoke just for a second though. She says, the drugs can really mess you up. Doc says, yes, they can.

At the station, Elizabeth tells Franco it’s an expensive fine. He says he’s happy to pay it. She says he’s lucky it’s just a fine. He could have gone to jail for a year. What was he thinking? He says he needed to talk to Alexis before she lost the case. Elizabeth asks how that would happen. Franco says, by asking Griff a question he was not prepared to answer with a lie. Elizabeth tells him, stop talking in riddles, and he says, Kiki and Griff slept together.

Alexis has no further questions for Griff. Scotty says he has nothing. David tells Scotty that Griff is hiding something, but Scotty says it’s part of his strategy; they have nothing to be gained here. David tells him to do his job. The judge asks if the witness is to be excused or not. David says, no, and Scotty asks to confer with his client. Scotty says he has nothing to ask. Ava leans forward, and says, yes, he does. One question has been left unanswered.

Jason sees Drew, and tells him Margaux just interrogated him for thirty minutes, before telling him the charges were dropped. Before she left, she mentioned how different they were, and how Drew is a law-abiding citizen. She said it deliberately, and definitely has an agenda.

Margaux looks at a picture of Drew, alongside one of Jason. She looks at the flash drive.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he can’t believe he just saw Cameron get busted. Did she really have no idea? She says, not a clue. Oscar says it just goes to show you never know a person.

Franco asks Elizabeth please tell him she understands. Not that Kiki and Griff are sleeping together; that’s grody. She understands David has to answer for what he did, but if it’s found out they conspired to withhold information, it will get thrown out. It’s obstruction of justice. Franco says that’s not going to happen. There’s a slim possibility, but he’s not saying anything. Neither will anyone else. Chase walks past them with Cameron.

Mike is loving the lemonade. Sonny asks to talk to Carly privately. He’s sorry about before, and she says, all is forgiven. He asks if he heard the door, and she says it was Doc. Sonny asks what he wanted, and she says he wanted her to go back to therapy. She says, never again. She wants nothing to remind of Ferncliff and the lost souls there.

Doc enters the patient’s room. He touches the patient’s shoulder. Yep, it’s his brother, Ryan. Doc says, hello again, brother.

Ava tells Scotty that Alexis wasn’t specific enough. Ask him directly. He says he doesn’t take direction from the plaintiff’s mother. She says he does if he knows what’s good for him. Ask the question. The judge says they haven’t got all day. Is Scotty questioning the witness or not?  Scotty says, yes. He gets up, and says Griff just told the court that he and the plaintiff were friends. Griff says, that’s right, and Scotty asks, what kind of friends? Good friends? Best friends? Special friends? Alexis objects, saying he’s already been asked, and these are insinuations. Scotty says he’ll make it clear. Has Griff ever had sex with Kiki Jerome? Kiki looks horrified.

On Monday, David tells Scotty don’t stop now, Anna doesn’t like Finn risking his life, and Ava slaps Griff.

💍 Although I still haven’t heard about a release date for the new season, I can’t wait to see Z Nation on Friday nights again. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the extended version of 90 Day Finance: Before the 90 Days, since I just can’t get enough of this franchise. I’m not sure why there’s always someone (mostly from Ohio) willing to believe two people with a huge age gap, along with a huge gap on the appearance scale, are going to make a love match. I’m not saying it never happens, and I’m not trying to be mean, but it’s pretty much a fact that unless you have a load of money and/or are gorgeous, it’s not going to happen. I’m talking to you, Ricky and Angela. Has Danielle taught you nothing? I’m also wondering why neither Paul nor Karine have learned one another’s language. After three seasons, they’re still pointing at things and making animal noises. This is not how it works.

💉 To Klein or Not To Klein?

Maybe we all assumed wrongly about Anna and Finn’s captors.

😢 Holy!

This is just sad. Dennis Shields seemed like a really cool guy. I can’t imagine how Bethenny must feel.

🔊 Quotes of the Week

What we call ‘being in love’ is a glorious state, and, in several ways, good for us. It helps to make us generous and courageous, it opens our eyes not only to the beauty of the beloved but to all beauty, and it sub- ordinates (especially at first) our merely animal sexuality; in that sense, love is the great conqueror of lust. No one in his senses would deny that being in love is far better than either common sensuality or cold self-centeredness. But, as I said before, ‘the most dangerous thing you can do is to take any one impulse of our own nature and set it up as the thing you ought to follow at all costs’. Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. There are many things below it, but there are also things above it. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. Now no feeling can be relied on to last in its full intensity, or even to last at all. Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last; but feelings come and go. And in fact, whatever people say, the state called ‘being in love’ usually does not last.C.S. Lewis, from Mere Christianity, Compiled in A Year with C.S. Lewis

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I come in a minute late, since the news had to tell us it was raining.

Jordan tells Robert that she’s gotten the all=clear from GH. Peter is going to be released into his custody. Michael comes into the station. Jordan thanks him for coming. He says he doesn’t have much time, and she says as soon as he tells her where to find his mom and Jason, he can be on his way.

Robert goes to Finn’s office. He says they’re not the only ones with travel plans. The Bureau wants Peter on the next flight. Finn wonders how to prepare when rescuing someone you care about from faceless, nameless adversaries. Robert tells him, improvise.

Lulu visits Peter’s hospital room. She tells him that he’s lucky. The doctors are optimistic that he’ll make a full recovery. He says he has a future of hunting and pecking to look forward to. Lulu is surprised Steinmaur lets their prisoners use computers. How progressive.

Maxie tells Nina that her parents are obsessed with James, but he’d like to see his Aunt Nina. Nina says he will. Now that she’s not in fear of being locked up. She can concentrate on Crimson and her life. Maxie tells her not to take it the wrong way, but she seems upbeat to the point of covering something up. What is Nina not telling her? Nina tells her not to worry, but Maxie says the more Nina stalls, the more worried she gets. She tells Nina about Obrecht breaking out of the van, and causing an accident with Michael and Nelle. Nina asks if they’re okay. Maxie says, Obrecht escaped, Michael and Nelle are okay, but not their baby.

At the hospital, Stella tells Brad and Lucas that Wiley is a fine name; a name with substance. Lucas says he’s never been happier. Brad agrees.

Jordan tells Michael that Jason broke his mom out of Ferncliff. There were multiple witnesses who ID’d his photo. Michael says he was busy at the time. His son died. Jordan is sorry for his loss. She says it’s only going to get worse, the longer Carly and Jason stay on the run. If they contact Michael, or if he finds out anything, he has to tell her. Jordan’s phone rings. It’s Chase, saying he needs an APB on Nelle. She got away.

Nelle, now wearing scrubs – very stylish ones, I might add – goes to the docks. Josslyn steps out and grans her arm. She asks where Nelle is going. Nelle tells Josslyn that she shouldn’t be there. Josslyn says that makes two of them. Nelle says she was cleared to leave, and Josslyn says, by the police? Nelle says, no; by the doctors. Josslyn asks why she didn’t leave by the front door. She thought it seemed suspicious, so she decided to follow Nelle. Nelle asks her if she told anyone. Josslyn says, no, and Nelle asks her to keep it between them.

Finn tells Robert that he texted his itinerary to “Anna.” Someone is supposed to pick him up in San Francisco. Robert says they’ll grab him before he gets to the airport. He’ll be tracking Finn, and when he leads Robert to Anna’s captors, he’ll bring down the hammer. Finn wonders what happens to Anna while they’re waiting.

Peter tells Lulu that she’s jumping to conclusions; a good reporter knows better. Lulu says maybe she’s not as talented as he thought. Every time he set her up, she believed him. She played right into his hands.

Nina tells Maxie that you know it’s bad when your heart goes out to Nelle. Does she think… Maxie says, that Obrecht caused the baby’s death? She doesn’t know. Obrecht already has too much guilt to carry around. Maxie feels like going back to bed, but Nina says she has some positive news. Lucas and Brad got their baby. Her cousin is a father.

Stella congratulates Brad and Lucas. Curtis says they’re two lucky dads. Lucas thinks Brad is extra quiet, and asks what’s going on.

Chase comes to the station. Michael asks how Nelle got out, and he says the officer guarding her got called away. I guess that’s a euphemism for went to the bathroom. Michael noticed there were no handcuffs, and Chase says they didn’t think it was necessary. She was too weak to escape. Michael says they underestimated Nell, and Chase says they’re combing the hospital. It’s all over the news, and she has no money or friends. Michael says they can look too.

Brad gets a call. Jordan tells him that he needs to come to the station. He asks if he’s under arrest, and she says, that depends on if he committed a crime. She has some questions about his friend Nelle.

Nelle thanks Josslyn for not calling the police. Josslyn says don’t thank her yet. Nelle can imagine what Josslyn is thinking. The terrible things people are saying about her; they’re all lies. She should believe her heart. Josslyn says her heart is telling her that Nelle planned to kill her brother. Nelle says that’s what Chase wants her to believe. Josslyn says Nelle used Morgan’s memory to sabotage her mom, and played on her grief. Nelle says her mom is sick. Josslyn saw how Carly came after her, and saw her at the bottom of the stairs. Carly wanted her to die, and the baby did. Exactly like her mom wanted.

Lucas asks Brad what Jordan wants, but Brad doesn’t know. Jordan says it’s an urgent matter of public safety. Brad says he can’t help, but she says it’s not a request. She expects him there immediately.

Max texts congratulations to Lucas. She’s thrilled to see everything isn’t gloom and doom. Nina buried the lead. Nina says, speaking of which, Maxie’s desk is cold and lonely. Maxie says she stopped by, and the office was a hot mess. It was like a thirty-car pile-up. Nina says she needs Maxie back.

Peter tells Lulu it was never personal- he was in a fight for his life with his father. Lulu says he lured Faison there, knowing Jason would kill him, and he’s using his last moments of freedom to spin the story. She says she wrote a follow-up. He tells her that she has a lot of potential. The paper is lucky to have her. He tells her not to let Dante deter her, but she says if she gives up, it will be her decision.  He asks if she’s considering quitting, but she doesn’t know. She wanted ot make a difference in the world for better, but when she balances it against the damage she’s caused, she’s in the red deep.

Jordan says Ava isn’t picking up; she’s sending a car to the gallery. Chase says the hospital called, and they’re sending over the security footage. Jordan tells Michael to stick around, but he says she has no right to detain him. She says she’ll think of something. Chase says he’s been working to provoke Nelle, but she’s no longer his responsibility. Michael asks if Chase is going to cuff him, and Chase says if he has to.

Nelle tells Josslyn the baby is dead, and she can’t even bring herself to say she’s sorry. She’s just repeating Carly’s lies. Josslyn says, they’re not lies. Nelle says she thought Josslyn had a mind of her own, but she’s just one of Carly’s minions. Josslyn takes out her phone to call the police. Nelle can’t believe Josslyn would do that to her after everything they’ve been to each other. They’re bonded; sisters. Josslyn calls Nelle a lying piece of trash. Nelle says Josslyn is selfish and spoiled. She’s just like her mother. Josslyn says, damn right. You messed with wrong family, bitch.

Curtis takes Stella to Kelly’s. It’s to thank her for being chill about the engagement. He’s surprised she’s not dropping hints for a kid, and she tells him not to get ahead until the vows are spoken. He says when an engagement is announced, folks come out of the woodwork. He’s hearing from all kinds of people. He got a text from his ex, Shondra. Stella says she’s sharp, gracious, and not proud; a real catch. Curtis says to tells him how she really feels. She wonders why they couldn’t make it work, and he says Shondra dumped him. The relationship was all about her, not him. He never heard from her again – until the text. He wonders what would make her reach out. Stella says he means who? He’s looking at her.

Robert promises not to leave Finn or Anna hanging. Finn asks how the surveillance works. Robert says he’ll inject Finn with a microchip that will emit a beacon. He’ll be able to hone in on Finn’s location. Finn says, that’s what people do with dogs, and Robert says, exactly. Finn just needs to allow himself to be abducted. Finn tells him not to be late, and Robert says he has a small loose end to take care of first.

Lulu tells Peter that she’s disappointed. She thought this would be more satisfying. Peter says, welcome to his world. He and Obrecht learned the same hard lesson; now it’s her turn. Revenge is empty and meaningless. It doesn’t lessen the hurt, heal the wound, or bring back the dead. It only brings more pain. She tells him that Obrecht escaped; she overpowered the driver. She talks about the fire, and says Maxie showed him mercy; she did the rescue breathing, while Finn did chest compression. Peter says it’s a compelling detail. It’s one of the things that makes her a good writer. If he was still at Aurora, he wouldn’t let her go. She says, coming from him, that’s worth nothing.

Maxie tells Nina it’s good to be appreciated, and she misses Crimson. Nina says if Maxie had been there, she wouldn’t have let things slide to the point Valentin bought loads of ads. Although there’s been a ton of reader response, wondering who the repentant husband is, and will she take him back, which is a no. Maxie says her mom has volunteered for daycare, all day every day, so she can start right away. Lulu texts that she wants to see them, and they wonder what it’s about.

Chase thanks Michael has had enough loss. He doesn’t need to add this job. Michael thinks they should both be out looking. No one knows Nelle better than them. Chase says part of him was hoping he’d be wrong, and she’s come to her senses. Then he’d feel less crazy for seeing the good in her at one time. Michael says he tried to see the good, and she exploited that over and over. It’s time for her to face the consequences.

Nelle says Josslyn wouldn’t be alive without her sacrifice. Josslyn owes her. Josslyn says the only thing she owes Nell is to call the cops. Nelle grabs the phone, and throws it. When Josslyn walks to get it, Nelle pushes her from behind. She says after everything she’s done. She saved Josslyn’s life. She calls Josslyn a little brat, and throws her down. Nelle walks away, and Josslyn gets to her feet. She goes after Nelle, and punches her. Nelle goes down.

Finn and Robert exchange glances. A dude watches as Finn gets in the elevator, then gets in with him at the last second.

Lulu thanks Nina and Maxie for meeting her. She just came from seeing Peter. Nina says she and Maxie have decided they’re leaving him behind them. Lulu would like to do same, and tells them to check their emails. There’s one from her addy at The Press. It’s the conclusion to her series on Faison, Henrik, and Nathan. She wants their approval before she gives it to her editor.

Robert tells Peter, time to hit road. Peter feels like they just went through this the other day, and Robert says, time is a great healer. The doctors say he’s fit to travel, and the WSB wants a word with him. It could be a decade or two before the discussion is finished.

Stella tells Curtis that she reached out to say hello. He says, interesting timing. She says he makes it sound like she had an ulterior motive; she’s not meddling. He says if he’d known she retired from that job, he would have thrown a party. She says she realized her intent might have been misconstrued, so she called back and left a message assuring Shonda that he was happy. He says, hence the congratulations text. Stella says Shonda is a gracious woman. Did he at least thank her?

Brad tells Lucas that Jordan wants to talk to him about Nelle. Lucas thins he’s holding back. Why would Jordan want to talk to him?  Brad says they were friends before he found out what she did. Maybe Jordan thinks he might have some insight into Nelle’s life. It’s not like she has a lot of friends. He gets agitated, and Lucas tells him to calm down. Brad says he just wants to be home with Wiley before he’s taken away.

Nelle and Josslyn fight. Nelle is doing beautifully for someone who just went through a car crash, gave birth in the woods, and was just released from the hospital. Nelle kicks Josslyn, and tells her to stay down.

Chase tells Michael that he got wasted last night, thinking if he kept drinking he could answer the questions in his mind, or at least drown them out. Michael asks if it helped, and Chase says, not at all. Lulu was there to cut him off and give him a ride. He woke up on her couch with a brutal hangover. He was convinced they were doing the right thing, but keeps coming back to the same question. What if there was another way? And if they’d gone with it, would the baby still be alive?

Josslyn grabs Nelle, and slams her against a metal gate. She says Nelle will never hurt her family again. Jordan appears, and says, enough. Josslyn says Nelle tried to get away, and she stopped her. Jordan says she sees that.

Brad tells Lucas maybe he’s not cut out to be a father. Lucas asks if this is because he put a onesie on upside down. He says it’s day two, and they can spend the next twenty-eight scared, or enjoy Wiley being theirs, and believing he will be. He knows what choice he’s making. He says he’ll go with Brad to the station. Brad says he’s not taking the baby, but Lucas says he should get used to it. He’ll be bailing out a family member somewhere down the line.

Michael says Chase can’t blame himself. There were so many red flags, and he ignored them. He convinced himself that what everyone else said about Nelle was wrong. Josslyn walks in, looking beat up. Michael asks if she was in a fight. Jordan says she helped apprehend a dangerous fugitive. He asks who, and Nelle is brought in.

Lulu tells Maxie and Nina that she didn’t want to send the article to her editor with their approval. Nina says Lulu could have said more about her involvement, and Maxie says only about her rescuing Peter. Lulu thought they would criticize her for not going harder on Peter, but Maxie says, he’s not a monster like Faison. He’s done bad things, but he’s still a person. She humanized him. Maxie and Nina agree that Lulu did a great job.

Peter tells Robert that he has nothing of interest to say. Robert says, Jason would disagree. Peter says he saved Jason. All he ever did was care about the truth. Robert is sure there’s more to the story. The Bureau will extract it in their own way. Peter asks where Anna is, and Robert says she’s dealing with other things, and can’t save his sorry ass. He’ll have to do it himself.

Finn is brought into a windowless room by the guy from the elevator. He has a burlap sack over his head. The thug’s boss asks if Finn gave him any trouble, but he says nothing he couldn’t handle. The sack is removed, and Finn asks who they are. The thug punches him in the stomach, and he’s told, no questions.

Jordan says they found Nelle on the pier; Josslyn had her on the ropes. Nelle is under arrest, and she says Josslyn is just as psycho as her mother. She claims everything is hazy, but Chase says she managed to steal some scrubs, and dodge security. She says that by stalking her, he’s laid the perfect groundwork for entrapment, and she can’t wait for court. He says, not this time; he did everything by the book. Jordan is sure she’ll be offered a deal, and hopes she doesn’t take it. The victims deserve their day in court. Chase looks at Zack’s case folder.

Michael says Josslyn has injuries, but she says it was worth it. She’s sorry about the baby. He is too, and she says it’s Nelle’s fault. He says it just happened; no one is to blame. He says they named him Jonah; it means peace, and he’s at peace. Josslyn thinks they should get out of there, take out the speedboat, and get away. Michael says it sounds nice, but he has to take care of something first. They hug, and he says he’s proud of her. She says she had to do something, and he says he knows the feeling.

Lulu appreciates the endorsement, and tells Nina and Maxie the story will run tomorrow. Nina says she’s looking forward to the story coming to an end.

Peter tells Robert that locking him up is counter-productive. He’d prove more useful to the Bureau if the charges were dropped. He has information about the others. The ones who came before Jason. Patients One, Two, Three, Four, and Five.

Finn would love to say they have the wrong guy, but they went through all that trouble to get him here. The boss man tells him to just be the good doctor and take care of their very special patient.

Curtis tells Stella that he did send a thumbs-up emoji. She says, how noble. He suggests they talk about something happier. What role does she want to play in the wedding? She says she called off Shonda. Don’t push it.

Jordan reads Nelle her rights. Nelle can’t believe she’s doing this now. Jordan says she has a lot of questions, and wants to make sure Nelle knows her rights. She says the baby she was carrying is dead because of the department. She wipes her hands all over Jordan, and says there’s blood on Jordan’s hands. Chase and Michael too.

Brad and Lucas walk in with Wiley. Michael stares at the baby.

On Monday, Drew needs to set the record straight with Margaux, Carly says it will take time she doesn’t have, and Michael asks to hold Wiley.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jason tells everyone down on the floor, with their hands behind their back, and binds them. He takes the rubber thing out of Carly’s mouth. She asks if this is real.

Julian calls Brad to tell him that Lucas is still in surgery. He asks if Brad wants him to get Lucas out, but Brad decides to be patient, even though he’s anxious to let Lucas know the baby is here. Not just here – home.

At the hospital, Kim asks if Elizabeth has seen Nelle. Elizabeth says she hasn’t, and asks if something’s wrong. Kim hopes not, but Nelle called for an appointment with the lactation specialist at the last minute, and she’s not there. Elizabeth tells her, baby brain is real, and Kim says, maybe.

At the station, the screen has gone blank, and Chase tells Sonny that they’ve lost them. Sonny asks for the last position of the car.

The car sits, smoking, in the middle of a forest. Nelle and Michael are unconscious. Nelle wakes up, and asks the baby if it’s okay in there; she wants a kick. She shakes Michael, but there’s no response. She says, thank God it’s over.

Chase gives Sonny the location, and says he’s going along. Jordan comes in, and says he’s not going anywhere until she knows what’s going on.

The other car involved in the crash is the prison transportation van. Obrecht sees the guard next to her in the back seat. She apologizes for the assault, but she wasn’t about to be carted off to prison. She checks his pulse, and says his neck will be bruised, but he’ll be back to work in no time. She checks the driver, and says, life for him, no additional murder charges for her. She takes the keys and the guard’s gun, and says, no hard feelings. She walks off into the forest.

Michael comes to just before Nelle can get out of the car. He asks how the baby is, and she says, fine. She’s glad he’s okay, and was about to find help. He tells her, enough. It’s too late. He knows she’s not happy he’s alive, but she insists she is. He says the plan was a fail. For her, anyway. She calls him an SOB, saying he set her up. He says he can’t take all the credit. He had help; Chase was in on it. She accuses him of terrorizing her, and he says she was only afraid because she’d planned the crash. Enough lies and excuses. She tried to kill him. The car was rigged, but with audio and video. Everything she said was recorded.

Kim tells Elizabeth, according to the housekeeper, Nelle and Michael left. They should have been st the hospital by now. Elizabeth suggests they stopped for dinner, and Kim asks if she wants to go to the cafeteria for some. Elizabeth is distracted on her phone, and Kim says they’re having poached horse. Elizabeth apologizes, saying she’s left repeated messages for Franco, but his phone seems to be turned off. She’s is going directly to voicemail, and her texts aren’t going through. When Franco goes radio silent, something is wrong. He’s always trying, but his judgment still needs work.

Franco sits in the car outside Ferncliff. He says, Jason, come on.

Jason asks how Carly is feeling, and she says she’s had better days. He says they have to go right now, but she doesn’t think she can stand. Jason says she’ll have to. Dr. Lazarus – who, according to Soaps in Depth, spells his name Lasiris, even though Mary Pat made a point of comparing it to Lazarus from the Bible – says they’ll never make it; they’ll never reach the exit. Jason tells Carly, once they leave the room, don’t stop; no matter what.

Outside, Franco says, enough. He did his good deed. He can’t find the keys, and realizes that blue-eyed bastard took them.

Kim tells Elizabeth that Franco’s judgement might be questionable at times, but that doesn’t mean it’s a game changer.

Chase tells Jordan that Nelle believed the car would crash after it drove fifteen miles. She was frantic, and desperate for Michael to pull the car over. She asks how desperate, and he shows her the video. Jordan sees Nelle admit the car is rigged, and Chase says Michael wanted more. He kept pressing because he wanted answers. She admitted to gaslighting Carly, but then they got in a real wreck. Jordan doesn’t suppose Zack’s case came up, and Chase shows Nelle saying she didn’t want Zack to die, but had no choice. They get ready to leave, when an officer comes in and tells Jordan that they’ve lost contact with the prison van. Jordan and Chase jet.

Nelle can’t believe Michael would go behind her back like this. He says, like the insane mother of his child who tried to have him killed? She asks, whose fault is that? She would have been happy with him, but he was going to take her baby away. He calls her delusional. She says she couldn’t trust his mother; Carly was awful to her, and she would do it again. He says they would have been good to her for the baby’s sake. He would have taken care of her, and kept it peaceful. She says it wasn’t enough, and he asks if this is better. Is it what she wanted? Now everyone knows who she is, and what she did. It’s over. Nelle gets out of the car, but Michael’s seatbelt is stuck. She looks at him.

Jason takes Carly through the hallways. The background music is so loud, I’m sure no one will hear them, and oddly enough, there are no guards anywhere. In the car, Franco wonders, what would Jason do? He can’t call an Uber, since he’s breaking about eleven laws. Jason and Carly appear, and he asks what took them so long? Carly gets in the passenger seat, and Jason tells Franco to get into the back. Carly wonders why Franco is there. Jason takes off. That was kind of an anticlimactic escape.

Julian tells Kim that he’s waiting for Lucas, so he can see his face when he finds out he’s a father. Kim hadn’t known the baby arrived, and Julian shows her the picture. Elizabeth can’t believe Lucas doesn’t know yet, but Julian says Brad wants to be the one to tell him. Elizabeth leaves, and Kim says Julian has a new grandson. She congratulates him. She loves how he stuck around to see Lucas’s reaction, but Julian says, the question is, will Lucas feel the same way? Kim says she’s witnessed it a thousand times over. In that instant, nothing else matters. He’ll only care about the baby. Julian says one of his biggest regrets was not being there for the birth his children. Although Lucas wasn’t there for the birth, Julian is glad Lucas will get that moment when his son is put in his arms.

Brad watches the baby. He says he’s a parent, and Wiley is their son. He made a promise to Lucas, and acted confident, but down inside, he was nervous. He thanks Wiley for making the promise a reality. His daddy is grateful. He tells Wiley, sweet dreams, and turns down the light.

Michael can’t get out of the car, which is now throwing sparks. He tells Nelle that he’s having trouble with the seatbelt. It’s jammed. Nelle says it wouldn’t be a big deal, but she smells gas leaking. He tells her to get help, and she says if she smoked, she would light one and think it over. She guesses she’ll leave it to fate. She tells him, good luck, and remember that he brought it on himself. He asks her to wait, but she walks away. He struggles, and gas drips from the car.

Jason drives to the hospital, and tells Franco to get out. Franco tells him, nothing says friendship like helping someone break someone out of the loony bin. Jason thanks him. Franco says he’s glad Carly is okay. Jason leaves, and Franco goes into the hospital.

Nelle needs a car, any car. She starts to feel contractions.

Julian tells Kim that he wants Wiley to know his grandfather. She wants that for him too. She’s observed Lucas. Lucas knows he’s trying and appreciates it. Julian hopes enough to crack the door open. She says he might have more sympathy now that he’s a father. Julian says, the dream doesn’t end there, and Kim says, Sam? He says, and Leo. He’s hoping maybe if Sam and Olivia see how good he is with Wiley, they’ll let him spend time with their children. There are a lot of maybes and what ifs. She says, that’s what dreams are. It’s up to us to make them a reality.

Franco’s elevator opens, and Elizabeth is there. She says she thinks his phone is off. It’s unlike him, and she wonders what he’s up to.

Nelle says, this is not happening. Not here; not now. Obrecht comes out of the forest, and Nelle says she knows her. She’s all over the news. Obrecht tells Nelle to forget she saw her. Nelle says Obrecht is a doctor, and explains she used to work for her niece. Obrecht remembers that Nina said she was a lying sneak. Nelle says she needs Obrecht’s help. She grabs Obrecht’s arm, and says she’s in labor.

Michael digs around in the console for anything he can find to get the seatbelt off. Sonny is suddenly at the window.

In a cabin – no, not that one – Carly sits up, and looks around. She starts to panic, and calls for Jason. He comes out, telling her it’s okay. He gives her some water to help get the drugs out of her system. She says he broke her out of Ferncliff. She thought she was hallucinating. He asks if it was a hallucination, would she think he’d have Franco with him? It’s okay; he’s here; this is real. She’s safe. She cries, and thanks him.

Michael tells Sonny that his seatbelt is caught. He asks if Sonny has a knife. He tells Sonny the car could blow, but Sonny isn’t leaving. He takes out a pocket knife, tells Michael to sit still, and starts to cut.

Jordan and Chase find the prison van. Chase says the guards are still alive. He sees a pair of handcuffs, and assumes they belong to the prisoner. Jordan calls dispatch for an APB on Obrecht. She asks Chase about the guns, and he says, there’s one missing. She tells dispatch that Obrecht is armed and dangerous. She calls for an ambulance, and tells Chase the paramedics are on the way. The driver comes to, and Jordan asks, what happened? He says his prisoner attacked the guard, he swerved, and lost control of the car. Chase thinks the other car must be Michael’s, and wants to find him. Jordan says they have to find Obrecht.

Nelle tells Obrecht that she barely got out before the car exploded. She just kept walking, and her water broke. Obrecht says, interesting. She just came from a car crash. Another car ran them off the road; it must have been hers. There was no explosion, and her pupils aren’t dilated, so there’s been no trauma to the brain. Can it be that she’s lying? Nelle says what she’s not lying about, is that she’s having a baby right here, right now. Obrecht took an oath, and has to help her.

Franco tells Elizabeth the truth is alarming. She asks, how much? and he says, seven out of ten. She tells him the truth now is better than finding out later. He says, right now? and she says, yeah, lay it on her.

Carly asks how Jason did it. He says when they took her back, he knew he had to get her out. It was the reason he took the job; to get the layout, but they took his badge. She asks how he got in, and he says he heard Franco say he worked there sometimes. He would have done anything to get her out, even team up with Franco. He’s sorry. As soon as they took her back, he should have done it that night, but he got talked into waiting. Carly says she was talked into pleading insanity. They both messed up, but will trust their own instincts from now on, especially about each other. Jason sits next to her. She tells him not to feel bad or sorry. She knew he would get her, and he did.

Obrecht says she misunderstood morality; there might be something to it. She recognizes sociopathy. Not as a mirror to herself, but in Faison, the man who killed her son. Maybe something good can happen from something bad. Maybe what happened with her son will happen with Nelle’s child. She tells Nelle to spread her scrawny legs and push.

Julian tells Kim that he’s going to do everything in his power prove himself to his children. Kim says he can respect their wishes, but still keep the door ajar. She can’t stress enough the bond between children and parents. His kids will see it too. He thanks her, and says that will be another day. Today is about his son.

Brad tells Wiley it’s time to wake up and eat. The baby isn’t waking up. I say, oh no, out loud. He drops the bottle. Please. They are not going to do this, are they?

Franco tells Elizabeth that Jason did the dirty work, and there’s probably a less than 50% chance anyone saw him, so the chances of him getting into trouble are pretty slim. In general, Elizabeth is opposed to activities like breaking out mental patients, but in this case, he did the right thing. He didn’t expect that, and thanks her. He wonders if it’s only because Jason was involved, and thinks if it had been his idea, she’d be upset. She says Jason went to Ferncliff to save his friend. She respects him for it, because that’s who he is, but Carly isn’t Franco’s friend, and he didn’t help because he was forced. It was decent and kind, and that’s who he is. She’s proud of him. He says he’s better for it, and they kiss.

Jason asks Carly how she’s feeling. She says, okay, but shaky, and still out of it. She needs to say something out loud, just to him, and then bury it. Sonny can never know; nobody can. He tells her to go ahead, and she says, it was awful. Spending her days and nights in a padded cell; she had no concept of time. Mary Pat is evil – there’s no other word for her. With all the drugs Mary Pat pumped into her, she could barely hold her head up. She’d started hallucinating, but all she saw was Nelle. It was the second most horrific thing she’s ever experienced. Morgan was the first, and she couldn’t go through it again. She had to try and stop Michael from marrying Nelle. She knew what that would cost, and didn’t care. She can endure anything if it means keeping her son safe.

Sonny cuts through the seatbelt like a sloth. Michael says to let him take it. The car continues to smoke and spark. (Ha-ha! Smoke & Spark, a new bar… or rap team.) Sonny says Michael’s mother can’t lose them both. Sonny finally gets him loose, but Michael can’t move his legs. The sparks really start flying, and they look at each other.

Tomorrow, Jason explains what Nelle had planned to Carly, Robert tells Finn the texts came from Anna’s captors, and Margaux looks at what’s on the flash drive.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

We revisit Kelly finding out that Vicki and Steve went on a double-date with Michael and Vicki’s friend. In her interview, Vicki tells us that Michael said it was none of Kelly’s business. It’s not cheating; their marriage is over. She calls Michael from the car, and leaves a message that his soon-to-be-ex-wife just destroyed her.

Kelly calls Tamra, and tells her about the double-dates. Tamra thinks Vicki is destroying girl code. Kelly wanted to smack her, and says there’s no loyalty. It would be like Tamra going on a double-date with David. Tamra says she would never do that, and Kelly says then Vicki had the audacity to yell at her. In her interview, Tamra says Vicki knew she was wrong, and that’s why she didn’t tell Kelly. She was being sneaky.

I get confused for a moment, since the New York Wives are also doing Mexico.

Vicki tells Tamra, it’s about moving forward and rebuilding friendships. In the car, Tamra says she doesn’t think Kelly’s problem is with Michael dating, but that Vicki double-dated with him. Vicki says she didn’t tell her because Michael asked her not to, but Tamra thinks maybe she shouldn’t double-date with him. In her interview, Tamra says she went through it with Simon, and in a divorce, friendships are split up as well. We see a clip of Tamra getting annoyed with Eddie about David being in the studio. Eddie says he’s staying friends with David. Tamra tells him that it upsets Shannon, but he’s not going to let someone else dictate who he’s friends with. Tamra tells Vicki to have fun. They’re going to Mexico.

Kelly puts on a weird ski jumpsuit, which daughter Jolie vetoes. Kelly tells Jolie about a phone message from Vicki, who said she was under the impression she shouldn’t tell Kelly, and it’s not her position to. Kelly thinks it is. In her interview, she says Michael isn’t Vicki’s friend; she is. She says she was warned about Vicki, and Tamra and Shannon were right. We flash back to them telling Kelly to keep her distance or she’ll get hurt. Vicki adds that she just wants everyone to get along, and to have a good ski trip. Kelly tells Jolie that Vicki should have said something, and Jolie says she’s not a good friend. Why get caught up in drama with someone who just wants to make things worse? Vicki is not her friend. It’s shocking to Kelly that a twelve-year-old knows how to be a better friend than a fifty-five-year-old woman. Jolie says God tells you to forgive, but you don’t have to be buddies, and I’m in total agreement. Kelly calls Jolie a mini psychiatrist. Jolie says Kelly can forgive her, but let her know it’s not like it was before.

Gina and Emily work out in the park with their children in a strollercize class. Leader Kim instructs them about jogging with the kids. Emily kids are out of control. She says, tongue in cheek, that she needs therapy and medication just to deal with them. Kids are out to get you and will hurt you. This class looks like a true struggle. Emily is glad she met Gina. They’re in the exact same place. People with one kid only have one place they need to focus the attention. In her interview, Gina says in the OC, you have to play a part, or everyone will let you know you’re not doing a good enough job. Emily asks if Gina’s husband is a hands-on father. Gina says he’s good with poop detail. In her interview, Gina says she’s essentially a single parent during the week. She tells Emily that she’s signed up for some mommy groups, but they didn’t click. She and Emily decide on a second date.

Shannon feels closer to her kids since the divorce. Since they were already in Mexico, the girls are flying home, and she’s arranging for a babysitter while she’s away. She’s more determined than ever to get through the divorce successfully and happily. She tells her daughters that she wants a call every minute.

Apparently Mexican shots equal three in the US. Shannon orders three, and waits for Vicki and Tamra at the gate, surprising the hell out of them. FYI, they’re all wearing blinged out sombreros. Vicki and Shannon hug, then fall down, and the trip hasn’t even started. Tamra says, welcome to Mexico, and asks if they’re going to jail. Vicki also has pee on her pants. Omg. I would never go on vacation with these women. Never.

Kelly is snippy with Jolie, who tells her just because she’s mad at Vicki, don’t be mad at her. Kelly threatens to send her to boarding school, but Jolie says she’d actually like that.

Gina goes shopping, but doesn’t understand the store. The clerk tells her it’s a lifestyle boutique. She says it must be a California thing.

Shannon, Vicki, and Tamra are shown to their rooms. Vicki says Shannon knows how to do it up right. The pink sunset is insane, and they’re right on the water. They toast to their new normal. Shannon says it’s looking pretty good.

Shannon says she hasn’t been out in five months, and tonight, she’s going out. They have a shot or three in the room first, and head out to the bar. Vicki says she has a lot of history with the bar, and we flash back to her dancing with Tamra on the bar. Lots of drinking happens. Tamra says, when in Mexico, go through full throttle. She and Shannon get on the bar and dance. Tamra flashes everyone. In her interview, Vicki explains she told Steve she’ll be good. We see a clip of him saying she shouldn’t do anything she can’t do in front of her grandkids in public. Shannon is wearing several bras, and Tamra asks how she expects to get laid. Tamra just wants Shannon to have fun. Shannon appreciates it, and Tamra says to learn from her and Vicki. Shannon says she doesn’t let a lot of people in, and she’s grateful they came there. They woohoo.

They stumble out, and move on to the next place to get some food. Vicki parks Tamra and Shannon, and goes in to order. Shannon repeats that she’s grateful they’re with her, and having fun. Tamra says, whatever it takes for her to be happy, she’ll give it to her. Vicki passes out the food. Tamra talks about Eddie, saying she can’t get enough of him. She loves him, and if something happened to him, her life would be over. Shannon says she used to think that way about David, and Vicki says she used to think that way about Brooks. Vicki says Brooks made her think he loved her, and she loved him so much, but now she loves Steve. Shannon questions that, but not in a mean way. Vicki doesn’t want judgement or questions. Shannon says she told them Brooks was her soulmate, and it’s hard to understand. In her interview, Tamra thinks Vicki is trying to convince herself; it sounds mechanical when she talks about Steve. Shannon suggests they go back, and they walk right in front of the cars in the street. Good thing it’s cobblestone.

Tamra hits the hot tub. Shannon complains about being fat. In her interview, she says there’s a lot stopping her from being naked, and one thing is her body. Tamra gets out, and slips on the floor. Vicki covers her. In her interview, Tamra says she has so much sh*t going on in her life, she could make a country song out of it. She sits next to the tub, naked except for a sombrero, and yells for Shannon. Shannon gets in wearing Spanx. In her interview, Vicki says she told Steve she’d be responsible. Tamra thinks she’s holding back, and wants her full throttle friend. Tamra jumps into the tub, and thinks she broke her foot, but it’s all good. She asks for another shot, and yells for Vicki.

The next morning, Shannon doesn’t remember much. Vicki has gotten matching pajamas for the three of them. She says, matching pajama friends make better friends. Tamra’s foot is officially broken. Shannon says, unbelievable. Why? Tamra tells them she had to take a cab to the hospital by herself, because they were passed out. Well, no one told her to drunkenly cavort in the hot tub. Room service comes with fruit and coffee. Shannon thinks a big pastry would soak it up better. She asks what time they got home, but no one knows. Tamra counts – two shots at the airport; two in the room, and possibly a beer, then another before they left; three at the bar; no, four; then drinks and shots upstairs at that place, and a drink at another place. Shannon says, after a five-month social hiatus, way to go. They decide to head for the beach.

Back in the OC, Gina deals with her kids. She says it’s hard to be a mom, but feel like there are others in the same situation. She says she copes with a lot of playdates and wine. Unless one of these kids robs a bank some time soon, I don’t know how exciting will be. She says with her husband gone, it’s difficult to keep the connection. When he is home, they have the chaos of kids. The kid in the dinosaur costume screams, and won’t stop opening the front door every time Gina closes it. Hmm… maybe that one is my potential criminal.

Vicki and Shannon bring Tamra out in a wheelchair, but she refuses to be wheeled down the stairs. They try to help, and Tamra protests that Shannon’s hand is in her a-hole. They’re like The Three Stooges trying to get her down the stairs, and a staff member steps in to help.

Tamra is carried to a lounge chair. Vicki says, middle aged women can’t act this way. It’s very embarrassing. Shannon says, let’s do it again. In her interview, she likes the new version of herself. It’s a little bit sexier-ish. Tamra calls Eddie, and tells him the bad news about her foot. She says she went to get in the Jacuzzi, and it broke. He says it sounds like she was drunk AF. She says, maybe a little. Vicki keeps yelling, she was naked, in the background, and Tamra says no wonder Kelly is mad at her. She asks what’s up with that, and Vicki explains that a friend wanted to meet David. She had a barbecue and they exchanged numbers there. She asked if she should tell Kelly, but they both asked her not to. She says Michael was lonely, not having Jolie, and Steve was hanging out with him. She wonders why choose sides? Michael wanted the marriage to work, and Kelly wanted it over. She learned her lesson, and isn’t getting involved. She says it’s all about Kelly all the time. Shannon says she’s in the same position. She and David are done, and never getting back together, but it still hurts that he’s with someone else. She says Vicki’s friend is going through a breakup; she shouldn’t set up her ex. She should sit down with Kelly, see why she’s hurt, and tell her that she didn’t mean to hurt her. Vicki says she can do that. Tamra requests a mellow dinner, but Shannon says she’s arranged for a tequila tasting. Tamra says something bad is going to happen.

Vicki didn’t expect last night to be that way. Tamra is on painkillers, and snoozes at the dinner table. Shannon and Vicki put her to bed, leaving water, cookies and pills on the nightstand. Room service brings the tequila. Shannon says four years ago, Vicki invited her to Puerto Villa, and they had a tasting on the beach. We see a clip of that. She says they’re recreating it, but don’t have those men today. They got rid of them. In her interview, she says David had checked out, and we flash back to David ignoring her. She says he was already having an affair, but she refused to see it. They try the tequilas, and the dude who brought them explains the properties of each one. In her interview, Shannon says, tequila makes her loco, and she starts to get loud. Shannon tells Vicki that she and Tamra coming along to spend time with her means so much. She says four years ago, she wouldn’t even sip tequila; it was David’s drink. She didn’t know he was having an affair, and it turned out that it was their thing. She says she and David shared twenty years, he took her on a trip, and then he was done. He found someone new in a few months, and it’s devastating. She’s gone through the pain of the divorce, knowing he’s with someone else. In her interview, Shannon says a few months after their seventeen-year marriage ended, she was replaced like that. She’s in a place she never knew she would be at fifty-three years old. Vicki says anyone can check out at any time, and it’s like a death. She’s proud of Shannon. Shannon says her girls were excited that she’s talking to Auntie Vicki. She tells Vicki that she loves her, and Vicki says she wants the best for Shannon. Shannon wants the best for Vicki too, and kisses her. Vicki wipes her mouth, and says she doesn’t know how the girls do it.

Next time, Tamra might need surgery, we meet Emily’s mother-in-law, and Vicki tells Kelly she deserves respect, although Kelly tells her respect is earned.

💝 Another Kind of Love…

There are two kinds of love: we love wise and kind and beautiful people because we need them, but we love (or try to love) stupid and disagreeable people because they need us. This second kind is the more divine because that is how God loves us: not because we are lovable but because He is love, not because He needs to receive but He delights to give. – from The Collected Letters of C.S. What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jason steps into the elevator with Franco. Franco says he’ll take the next one, but Jason says no he won’t. He stops the elevator, and wants Franco to tell him about his job at Ferncliff.

Mary Pat tells Carly that she’s had a lot of difficulties with her; she’s the most challenging kind of patient, refusing to accept she’s there. Dr. Lazarus has done wonders for others like her. She leads Carly into a room with ECT equipment. Carly freaks, and Dr. Lazarus says the machines appear intimidating, but they’ll change everything.

Chase and Sonny use Jordan’s office to watch the video streaming from Michael’s car. Jordan asks if Sonny is comfortable, and he says he’ll be more comfortable when Nelle is behind bars. Chase thanks Jordan for the leap of faith, and tells Sonny everything is under control. Sonny asks what if Nelle reaches out to someone else, but Chase tells him to trust Michael. Nelle truly believes the car is rigged to crash. As soon as Michael gets her confession, it’s over.

Nelle tells Michael that she didn’t want to be a high-maintenance pregnant woman, and she thinks she hasn’t been for the most part. She’s kept cool, except for the health scares, which were out of her control. They were caused by the earthquake and Carly. She tells him to slow down; she’s not going into labor, just seeing a lactation specialist. She appreciates him going the extra mile. He asks if she hasn’t figured out that he’d do anything for her.

Maxie visits Nina in the interrogation room. She called in some favors. Nina says Maxie doesn’t need to wait with her, but Maxie says they need to talk. She wants to know how Nina let Obrecht rope her into kidnapping Peter.

Finn sits with Peter. Peter says, yes, he’s alive. Finn says good thing he never smoked. His lungs look good. There’s no permanent damage, and he doesn’t need the mask to sleep. He’s a lucky man. Peter says, thanks to him. Finn ran into a burning stable to rescue him. Anyone else would have let him die. Finn says, except for his mother.

Obrecht is sitting, cuffed and wearing orange, at the station. Robert arrives, and says, well, well, well. Dr. Obrecht, I presume. Cuffed and ready for prison. What a wonderful sight.

Jason doesn’t want trouble. He just wants Franco to tell him what he needs to know. He asks if Franco has an ID, and Franco says, of course. He knows it must be about Carly. He thinks they need to adjust her meds. She seemed like she was hallucinating. Jason asks where his ID is, and Franco says, in his pocket. He doesn’t think Jason can pass for him, but Jason says Franco is going to get him in.

Carly says she doesn’t want treatment, but she’s too weak to resist. Mary Pat gives the doctor the paperwork, saying, signed, sealed, and delivered. Dr. Lazarus tells the orderlies to put her on the table. Carly protests, and Mary Pat asks if she should stick around, but Dr. Lazarus says he’ll take it from there. Carly says she doesn’t want to do this. Mary Pat leaves, and smiles in the hallway.

Jordan sees Robert, and says she heard he was on his way. He says he got the first flight when he heard Peter was in custody. Obrecht too. He tells Jordan, good work. She says Obrecht is due for immediate transfer, but Peter is still recovering at the hospital. He asks if he can have a few words with his old friend. Jordan says, with all her insane behavior, she’s in deep grief over the death of her child. He says he’ll go easy on her, and Jordan says it’s up to him. He site with Obrecht, who tells him, the word of the day is schadenfreude; enjoy it. He says she left him in a coma for twelve months, and nearly had him convinced his daughter was dead. She says, karma is cruel justice. She understands his pain, but his child is alive; hers is dead. Robert says he used to think of ways to get even, but now, he doesn’t even want to kill her. She’s going to pay the ultimate price, and spend the rest of her life in prison.

Nina says she’s sure Maxie must have ideas. Maxie says she’s the daughter of the former police commissioner, and was the wife of a detective. Nina says the current commissioner is going to ask her questions, and the less Maxie knows, the better. Maxie understands, but before she goes, she wants to thank Nina for saving Peter.

Peter wonders why Finn would risk his life. Because of his feelings for Peter’s mother? Why is he so interested in the case? Smoke inhalation isn’t exactly an infectious disease. Finn says he realizes Peter doesn’t have warm and fuzzy feelings for Anna. Peter says she abandoned him, and never looked back. Finn says that’s not exactly true. She thought he went to a loving family. Valentin is the one who gave him to Faison. He’s entitled to his righteous anger, but Finn thinks he knows deep down that she did the right thing, and made a loving sacrifice. Peter knows nothing of the kind; a sacrifice involves love. Finn says he knows Peter has hated her his whole life, and thinks he doesn’t know how to stop. Peter says most people think of holidays when they hear the word family. He thinks of pain, anger, and betrayal, but Finn wouldn’t know about that, would he?

Nelle says they just passed the street they were supposed to turn on. Michael says he’s not going to the hospital. He thinks they should go to Sawyer first, then the hospital. Nelle remembers Chase telling her that after fifteen miles, the controls will fail. She suggests Michael let her out, and she’ll call a car. He tells her that she’s being ridiculous. There’s no way he’s going to do that. At the station, Sonny sees the look on her face, and says she knows the car is rigged, and wants to put his son in the ground. Chase says that’s not going to happen. Thanks to Michael, they’ll be putting her away for good. Sonny doesn’t know what he was thinking. He told Carly to let it go, and she knew it wasn’t good. Now a psycho is planning to murder his son. Chase says there’s no shame in getting played by Nelle. He thought there was some good in her. She was so bitter because of the hand life dealt her, that she turned into a master manipulator. She could give a master class in deception. No one sees it until it’s too late. Sonny says, only Carly.

Nina says Maxie is giving her too much credit. Maxie says she kept Obrecht from killing Peter, and she’s willing to bet Nina kept him alive the whole time. Nina says she’s not a saint in any of this. She asks if Maxie still cares about Peter. Maxie says, not at all, but that doesn’t mean she wants him dead. Nathan was Nina’s brother, and in a weird way, Peter is too. He’s James’s uncle. She’d never let him have s role in James’s life, but he’s better off not finding out his grandmother killed his uncle. In the first two months of his life, there’s been enough death. She wants to forget the anger and revenge, and focus on living. Nina thinks James is lucky to have such an incredible, wise mom. Whatever happened, Maxie doesn’t approve, but she doesn’t want Nina going down for this. Nina thinks she’ll be okay. Peter didn’t name her as an accomplice.

Peter tells Finn it looks like he struck a nerve, and asks if he has a deep, dark skeleton in his family closet. Finn says every family has a skeleton. Peter can lie in bed feeling sorry for himself or realize he has a second chance. He’s free from Faison, and his mother wants to connect. He tells Peter to get over himself and be part of life. Peter asks where his mother is. His father is dead; where is she? Maybe she only wants to connect when it’s convenient. She gives out love on her terms, with conditions and caveats. Finn says Peter knows nothing about her. Maybe he should use his recovery time to give it more thought. Robert comes in, and says he doesn’t think Peter will be hanging around. On behalf of the Bureau, he’s there to take Peter into custody.

Carly doesn’t want to do this. The doctor says she’s becoming agitated, and asks when her last dose was. He thinks it’s close enough, and tells her to try and relax. Carly wants her lawyer, Sonny, anything but the drugs. Dr. Lazarus gives her a shot.

Franco and Jason are at Ferncliff. Franco says he got Jason in there; Jason can take it from here. Jason says he’s going to need him. Franco says, for what? and tells him not to say a backup. He’s a hostage in this situation. Jason tells him, Elizabeth said he changed. Prove it. Franco asks what Jason wants him to do, and Jason says for now, stay there. Jason moves on down the hall, and Franco asks himself, why, why, why did he get on that elevator? Jason pulls a gun on Mary Pat and the orderly she’s with. Where’s Rupert? Did he quit? Jason asks where Carly is, and Mary Pat says, this is a crime, and tells him that he’s committing a felony. She lets him know what room Carly is in, and Jason opens the closest door, locking Mary Pat and the orderly in. Franco says, it’s going well; he’ll wait in the car. Jason says they’re not finished yet.

Chase apologizes to Sonny for not doing more when Nelle was gaslighting Carly. He thought she had a psychological problem because of the death of her son. Now she’s in an institution that she doesn’t need to be in. He takes his share of the responsibility, and will tell the judge. Hopefully, Carly will be released. Sonny says Nelle played his whole family. He and Michael pegged her as an opportunist, but Carly knew she was a killer. He didn’t know what she was capable of. Chase says now they do, and they’re ahead of the game. Sonny says it’s not a game to him. Not when his wife and son’s lives are on the line.

Michael has driven eight miles. Nelle says she doesn’t need the lollipops, but he says, yes, she does. She suggests they go to the hospital first; the specialist will be off duty soon. He says she’s married to a member of the board. The hospital will be open in thirty minutes; the store might not be. Once they get on the highway, he’ll step on the gas. She tells him to pull over. If they don’t pull over, they’ll crash.

Finn asks if Robert has official documents, and Robert hands him some papers. He says with the exception of fraud and breaking out of jail, Peter’s crimes fall under the jurisdiction of the Bureau. He says the reunion is postponed, and Finn says Anna doesn’t know. Robert tells him to release the prisoner into his custody, but Finn says Peter isn’t a prisoner to him. He’s a patient, and Finn can’t sign a release at this time.

Maxie guesses since Nina saved Peter’s life, he’s returning the favor. Nina wonders if it has something to do with getting back into Maxie’s good graces. Jordan comes in, and asks who authorized Maxie’s visit? Maxie says she let herself in; Nina is her sister-in-law. Jordan says they still have protocol. Maxie leaves, and sees Obrecht.

Jason wants Franco to keep watch for ten minutes. Franco says Mary Pat is the supervising nurse, and she’ll be missed. Jason says, for the next ten minutes, if anyone comes by, send them in the other direction. Franco suggests he just knock them over the head, and throw them in another room. Jason says, if he wants. Franco says Jason doesn’t care whose life he ruins, as long as he saves Carly. It’s the first time he likes his life, and can’t afford to be a convict. Jason leaves, and Franco checks the time on his phone.

Dr. Lazarus says it’s a precaution. Any degree of involuntary movement will disrupt the treatment. It’s for her own protection. Carly is prepped, and they put one of those rubber things in her mouth.

Jordan apologizes to Nina for taking so long; it’s been busy. She sees Nina doesn’t have a lawyer. Nina says she hasn’t called one. Jordan says, last night, she was adamant about not saying a word, not she’s ready to talk about what happened in the cabin? Nina says, nope. She decided to skip hiring a lawyer, and just sit there silently. Unless Jordan is pressing charges. She heard Peter’s statement, and she’s not contradicting it. Jordan says a quarantine was staged on Spoon Island. It’s not looking good for her. Nina says holding her is a waste of time. Jordan has nothing on her, and they both know it. She’ll sit there and wait for the clock to run out. Nina asks if Jordan and Curtis have set a date.

Maxie approaches Obrecht. Obrecht tells Maxie that she’s being transferred to Pentonville, where she’ll await trial. She’s considered a flight risk, and she’s a repeat offender. Obrecht is sorry she  failed Maxie. Maxie says, in what way? Obrecht says she kidnapped Peter for her and James. She wanted to get justice for Nathan, and some measure of closure. Maxie says, don’t say it; don’t even think it. Obrecht didn’t do this for them. Not even for Nathan. She did it for herself.

Robert says Finn might want to reconsider. This could be construed as obstruction of justice. Finn says Peter is his patient, and inhaled a near fatal amount of smoke. Does he look okay? He believes in taking extra precautions, so there are no unexpected complications. Robert asks how long these extra precautions will take. Finn says it could be a day or a few weeks. He doesn’t know. Robert says, as long as takes for Anna to get back?

Sonny takes to the screen. He says, easy. Get her on the line, and reel her in.

Michael tells Nelle that they’re not going to crash. He’s a good driver. She says she’s telling him if he doesn’t pull over, they’re going to crash. He says he’ll call the hospital when they get to the store. She grabs the steering wheel, and says, the car is rigged. Chase sabotaged it. Michael asks, why would he do that? and she says Chase wants to kill him. He tells her that her third trimester hormones are acting up. Chase wouldn’t try to kill him. She says if he doesn’t pull over, they’ll both die. The baby will die. The car is rigged because she asked him to do it.

Robert says Finn only turned up for part of reunion. Imagine what would have happened if Jason hadn’t shown up to prevent the shooting. Finn says Anna is in Berkeley, trying to make things right with Robin. Robert tells him not to bring his daughter into it. Finn says he’s not signing the release, and to take it up with the hospital administration or the court. Robert says, don’t think he won’t. He tells Peter, see you around, Henrik, and slams out.

Maxie knows what’s going on in Obrecht’s head. She wanted vengeance. She wanted Peter to feel the same pain. Obrecht admits she does. Maxie says she and Nina needed closure. Now they’ve got it. Obrecht says she’s going to prison, and Maxie says, after nearly torturing Peter to death. Did it fix any of this? Does she at least feel better? Maxie knows how much she loved Nathan, and it’s not what he would have wanted. All she accomplished was taking herself away from them. Her son lost his grandmother, and possibly his Aunt Nina, if she gets caught up in it, and he needs them both.

Jordan likes Nina, and appreciates her friendship with Curtis, but it’s not a game. She needs to start to take it seriously. Nina asks if Jordan is letting her go, and Jordan says, for now. The investigation is still going on. If Nina wants her advice, hire a lawyer.

Jordan sees that Obrecht’s ride has arrived. It might help her sentence if she cooperates. If she had an accomplice, now would be the time to say something. Obrecht says she did it as she came into the world – alone. She tells Maxie to make sure James never forgets his father, and his oma loves him very much. She hugs Maxie, who tells her to take care. Obrecht cries. I almost cry. She’s taken away.

Watching the screen, Chase says he almost got her. Sonny says, come on, son, like they’re watching a game. Michael tells Nelle that she’s not making sense. She says she didn’t want it to go this far, but he didn’t leave her much choice. Michael says, she hired Chase to kill him? She says he needs to pull over, but he speeds up. She says he didn’t marry her for love. He wanted to control her and get the baby. She knows about the will, and heard his conversation with Jason. Michael says, so she devised a plan to kill him over a possible custody dispute? She says he acted like she was disposable. She’s not letting it happen again. He asks if she killed Zack, and she says she had to; he was weak. If she’d waited, his family would have come between them, and they wouldn’t have gotten married. She didn’t want him dead, but didn’t have a choice. Michael says he makes his own choices too. Nelle screams for him to pull over. Chase says they finally got her.

Jordan tells Nina that she’s lucky her aunt backed up her story, but she’s still a person of interest. She says, and no, they haven’t set a date yet. She leaves, and Maxie asks if Nina is okay. Nina says she’s spent so much time being consumed by guilt, suspicion, and revenge. For first time since Nathan died, she doesn’t know what’s next. That’s the hard part; getting on with the rest of their lives. Maxie takes her hand.

Peter says Finn must have it bad for his mother. Finn would like to think he’s do this for anyone who was separated from their child. She made a tough decision, and suffered the consequences. He does care about her. Finn’s phone dings. It’s a text from Anna thanking him for looking after Peter, and saying things have gotten complicated. Come to Berkeley. Finn says be bought Peter extra time. Use it wisely. He leaves, and Peter scowls. He looks kind of like Tim Allen in The Santa Clause.

Outside, Finn texts back that he’s on his way.

Robert calls Robin, and demands she put her mother on the phone. She says she hasn’t seen her mother, and Robert says she’s supposed to be with her.

Sonny says they’ve got the confession on tape. Shut it down. Chase says Michael wants her to admit Carly didn’t push her. Chase thinks he can do it.

Michael says Nelle lied to his face about Zack, and everything else. Now she’s trying to kill him? She took everything from him and his family. HIs mom was right. Nelle was the one who made her believe that his brother was still alive. Nelle wanted her out of the way. Nelle says she’ll tell him everything; just pull over. First, Michael wants to know if Carly pushed her. Nelle won’t say until he pulls over, but he says, say it. Did she push Nelle? Nelle looks out the front window, and yells, look out! They crash. At the station, the screen goes black.

Franco asks himself what he’s doing. He’s marrying the most incredible woman on the planet, and they’ll live happily ever after. Assuming he’s not awaiting trial for helping to break out a mental patient. He’s trying to do the noble thing. The ruthless killer with the Botticelli eyes is a good friend. Not to him. Jason has plenty of reason not to like him, but his broad shoulders should be strong enough to handle a brain tumor. Franco wasn’t responsible, and he’s trying to prove he’s changed. He’s putting his life on the line for the last time. He looks at his phone and says, nine minutes.

The final preparations are made for Carly’s treatment. Dr. Lazarus says, it all seems alarming, but she’s receiving a gift. Anger and violence will be a thing of the past. Her whole perspective will change. Jason busts in with a gun, saying, nobody move.

On Monday, Jordan wants to know what’s going on, Franco tries to escape, and Jason tells Dr. Lazarus to shut the machine off right now.

🍹 And how about those Southern Charmers? Kathryn Dennis has definitely won the reality queen crown. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone do such a 180, and claim their piece of the world the way she has. It also made me love Patricia Altschul again. Both are true ladies, and also big enough girls to apologize. I’ve loved the show from the beginning, but this was the best season yet. Kathryn was never a true villain, but omg, Ashley. And Thomas. Kathryn also gave one of the best quotes – although I’ll have to paraphrase – when she told Ashley that she was really out of touch with the fact she’s a complete a-hole. I just had to repeat it again. It was a masterpiece reality moment. I don’t often follow C-list celebrities on Twitter, but when I do, they’re usually from Southern Charm.

🔀 BTW, I’ve  been confusing my spin-off Charms. New Orleans is the one where the couple with the little dogs broke up. They were my main reason for sort of watching. Savannah lost Ashley, who was ditto. I was fascinated by how in denial she was. She insisted she was just one of the guys, and took off her clothes at every opportunity, proving to everyone that she wasn’t. Needless to say, the girlfriends of the guys she was one of, were not too happy. The villain of the piece, I wonder if she saw herself for the girl code breaker she was, and chose to opt out for that reason. I’m sticking with the originals, but keeping the other two in my periphery.

💍 90 Day Fiancé has moved into Tell All Territory, where lots of boxing gloves have been put on. On What Now? Danielle continues to stalk Mohamad, but also won’t leave online not-really-dating alone, and it looks like she might have been catfished. Here, she talks about not being so trusting after Mohamad, which apparently didn’t work out.

💋 Little Women LA wrapped things up for the season. I barely watched it, but did catch the episode where a very white Tara thought it would be a brilliant idea to come out with a wine called Black Girl Moscato. It wasn’t. She thought sisters would be down with that, but she did not make the Moscato happen. The entire rainbow said no, just no. These girls could give Lisa Rinna a run for her money the way they attach their names to products.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Obrecht recites from The Severed Branch. I knew the day might come when I’d have to burn my own life down. Nina tries to stop her, but she throws the Molotov cocktail, and laughs like the crazy person she’s being.

Sonny reads the Alzheimer’s brochures. Jason arrives, and asks if there’s been any word about Carly. Sonny says Diane got the court to let her visit, and she’s supposed to call soon.

At Ferncliff, Diane tells Mary Pat she can read the document all she wants, but the only thing that matters is the judge’s signature. Mary Pat wonders if the judge is acquainted with psychiatric cases of the deeply disturbed, and Diane says the judge is acquainted with the law. Mary Pat tells her unscheduled visits aren’t conducive to recovery, especially in a case like Carly’s. Diane says if Mary Pat doesn’t produce her client immediately, she’ll be in breach of the order, and there will be consequences. If she loses her position, that’s even better. As usual, Diane is not having it.

Michael and Nelle are back at the Quartermaine mansion. Nelle says, thankfully, Michael has a healthy wife and baby. He says now they can get on with the life they planned. Nelle says she’s been dreaming about it, and he says, it’s no dream; it’s their reality. He says, welcome home, Mrs. Corinthos.

Chase asks if Valentin wants some coffee, but Valentin says he’s agitated already from being arrested without cause. He wants to talk to his lawyer. Finn comes into the station, and tells Jordan that Peter is still missing, and most likely kidnapped by Obrecht. Jordan says she’s waiting on the DNA test from the cabin. Curtis joins them, and says she might not have to. Obrecht is on a rampage.

Lulu startles Maxie on the pier. She tells Maxie that Dante always says she should wear a bell. Maxie asks why she’s there, and Lulu says she had work to do at The Haunted Star. She says, Maxie’s turn, and Maxie says she’s waiting for the launch. Lulu says it’s not running; Spoon Island has been quarantined. Maxie says she’s got to be kidding. She doesn’t believe it, and wonders if Valentin is sick in the head.

The stables are ablaze. Nina tries to get Peter out, but he can’t stand.

Curtis tells Jordan that he and Sam spoke with Maxie, who hasn’t seen Obrecht since she left the hospital with James. Chase thinks the trail is cold, but Curtis says they questioned Franco, and the person who knocked him out wasn’t Valentin. It was Obrecht.

Lulu says Valentin’s not sick in the head. Arrogant and amoral, but the sad part is, he really does love Nina. Maxie says Nina is obviously still in love with him; she’s been going through a lot. Lulu asks why Maxie is intent on going when the island is quarantined. Maxie says there’s no quarantine. Lulu asks how she knows, and Maxie says she just does. She has to get there right away, and wants to leave it at that. Lulu says, The Haunted Star has a zodiac that can take us over. Maxie says, us? Lulu tells her if she wants a ride, start talking. She says Obrecht has been acting strange; strange for her, which is really strange. Even weirder than normal. Nina isn’t around, and Peter disappeared. Curtis and Sam think Obrecht is holding him captive. Even worse, they think Nina is with her.

Chase tell Valentin that he’s free to go. Valentin thanks him for being professional and wasting his time. He jets, making snarky remarks all the way out the door.

Nina tells Peter they have to get out. Obrecht walks out, but not as fast as I’d be walking. For a moment, I think she might lock them in, but she leaves the door wide open. Nina shouts at her to help, but that’s not happening. She tells Peter that he has to stand, but he can’t move. He wants her to go, but she says she’s not leaving him.

Sonny tells Jason that Diane appealed to the court to visit Carly, so she can monitor the situation. Sonny wonders what Carly was thinking, and Jason says she thought it was worth the risk. Sonny says it didn’t do any good. Michael married Nelle. He can scream at Diane all day, but there’s nothing he can do.

Diane is shocked to see Carly in a padded cell. Mary Pat says Carly is violent and unstable, and managed to overpower her. Diane wonders if it isn’t a conflict of interest, but Mary Pat says she’s a professional. She has no issues with Carly. She tells Diane she has five minutes, but she doubts if Diane will need them. Diane goes into the room, and finds Carly barely conscious

Michael brings Nelle a healthy snack. She asks about Monica, and he says she’s still sick and keeping her distance sick, but sends her love. Drew joins them and asks how Nelle is feeling. Nelle says Kim gave her the all clear. He bets Monica is happy, and Michael says she knew before they did. He tells Nelle he’s going to put her things in her room; he thought she’d be more comfortable for her to sleep alone. She says that’s thoughtful, but she fully intends on sleeping with her husband tonight.

Chase says it’s the first time in his career that a suspect said they had nothing to do with an assault, and it was true. Michael calls Chase, who asks if there’s been any progress. Michael says they’re acting like a blissful, loving married couple. He’s giving her a lot of attention, but making excuses to leave the room, so she suspects he’s stringing her along. Chase tells him to be careful. Nelle is smart, and more than paranoid. If she figures out it’s a trap, she’ll become even more dangerous.

Drew asks Nelle if she needs anything; they’re family now. She says she has very little of own family, and Drew says she does now. The Quartermaines are good people, although they’re complicated. Nelle says they have a lot in common. He came in as an outsider, with a troubled past, and so did she. It gives her hope that they’ll accept her like they have him. He says if she does right by Michael, everything will go fine. She says she’s trying, but everyone judges her. She asks how he overcame everyone looking at him and seeing a killer.

Sonny apologizes for being negative, and Jason says they have other resources. Sonny says, they can do what they can to get Carly out of Ferncliff, but no matter how many resources he has, nothing can stop Alzheimer’s. Jason asks if Mike had a bad day. Sonny says Mike didn’t know who was who. He thought people were coming to attack him, but Felix calmed him down. Jason is glad Mike has a good caregiver, and likes Felix. Sonny says Felix believes it’s time to think about permanent care. Jason asks what Sonny thinks. Sonny says he can’t farm Mike out to strangers. No matter what, they don’t know him, and don’t love him. Mike is his dad, and they’re not family (which is the theme for today).

Diane approaches Carly, and asks if Carly can understand her. Sonny sent her. Carly says, Sonny? Diane says he’s very concerned, so she came to look in on her. Carly asks if Sonny is there, but Diane says he can’t come. She came as Carly’s attorney. She’s working hard for him to visit. She tells Carly this is important. Does she know what drugs they’re giving her? Carly says she doesn’t do drugs; they’re bad. Diane says the doctor or nurse prescribed them. Carly says, tell Sonny to stop Michael from marrying Nelle.

Jordan tells Finn that there’s an APB out on Obrecht. Finn says she’s probably long gone. Curtis thinks Franco knows more than he’s saying. He’s her only friend. If she was desperate enough to knock him out, she’ aware her time is getting short. Finn says, so is Peter’s.

Maxie tells Lulu about Nina asking how she’d feel if Peter died, and about Wyatt finding the cabin. She says if anyone is capable of kidnapping Peter, it’s Obrecht. By the time the police got there, the cabin was abandoned, but they found evidence. They’re running forensics now, and the quarantine on Spoon Island makes sense. Lulu says it sounds suspicious, and Maxie can’t believe she followed that. Lulu says they have to let the police handle it, but Maxie says Obrecht might do something to Peter. She has to save Obrecht and Nina from themselves. Lulu is shocked that Nina is involved, but Maxie says, she’s grieving. They’re out of their minds. Lulu wonders what Maxie thinks she can do to stop them. Maxie thinks they need someone who loves them to pull them from the brink. Like magic, Valentin appears, and says he couldn’t agree more. Who wants a ride? Little hearts pop out of my eyes.

Peter tells Nina to go. She says she’ll get help, but she can’t get past the flames outside the door. She screams for help.

Nelle tells Drew sorry to be blunt. She knows she can be annoying that way. He says he doesn’t think they look at him as a killer, and he doesn’t look at himself that way; not anymore. She says, at one point, he thought he was Jason. The things Jason has done, most people would be in prison. She asks how he did it. How did he get away with murder?

Sonny tells Jason every patient is different. Jason thinks he’s doing a great job. Sonny says he should have handled Croton differently. He shouldn’t have pressed Mike. After that, he started to deteriorate. Jason tells him not to put the pressure on himself; that’s not how Alzheimer’s works. Sonny says Jason has done some research. Jason says Sonny is the one who will remember, not Mike. The choices he makes have to feel right. He has to live with them.

Carly tells Diane that Sonny has to stop them. Nelle is going to hurt Michael. Diane says Sonny and Jason won’t let her. Carly asks what if that doesn’t happen. Diane asks her if she was given a shot or pills, but Mary Pat interrupts, saying, time’s up.

Curtis tells Jordan that Sonny has a presence in the area; maybe he knows something. Jordan says she can’t put herself in the position of owing him. Finn says tell Anna that when they find Peter’s body. Curtis says it will be on him. Chase calls Jordan over to his phone. Jordan tells Finn that they’re doing everything they can. They’re also dealing with the West Nile quarantine on Spoon Island. Finn tells Curtis there’s no West Nile. Why the quarantine?

Outside the stables, Obrecht says, sorry, Nathan; sorry, my son. It was not supposed to happen this way. Valentin runs up to her, and asks, where’s Nina? Obrecht thought Nina was behind her, and says she wasn’t supposed to be there. He looks at the burning building. Maxie and Lulu join them, and Valentin tells them to call 911. He starts to move toward the stables, and says, get the coastguard. They’ll need paramedics and a fire squad. He goes into the building. Lulu calls 911. Obrecht says, Nina was right. This would break Nathan’s heart. Maxie asks what she’s done, but she just keeps repeating, Nina was right.

Finn wonders if Valentin realizes the quarantine was bogus. Curtis bets his ass on it, and Finn thinks they should go there before all hell breaks loose.

Maxie tells Obrecht not to talk about Nina in the past tense. She starts to head in after Valentin, but Lulu says she can’t go in there. Maxie insists she’ll be careful, but Lulu says she’s not a firefighter, and can only get killed. Maxie says she hates Valentin, but he cares enough to go after Nina. Lulu says, every safety manual says the same thing – wait. Maxie says they’re on an island; it will be too late by the time they get there. Lulu says her son won’t have a mother. She has kids. She needs to put them first.

On the phone, Jordan tells Michael to be careful. His life depends on Nelle not catching wind that it’s a sting. Michael is confident that she’s buying what he’s feeding her, mixing his metaphors. He says she’s on the verge of turning to Chase for help. He asks her to give Chase the phone. Chase tells him not to push. If she gets suspicious, the operation will be blown. Don’t get over-confident. It’s a lethal cat and mouse game, and there are variables. Nelle might not play by their rules. She could turn to someone not on their radar, or matters into her own hands. You never know.

Drew asks if something is on Nelle’s mind. She’s fascinated; he’s led an interesting life. He’s a one-man podcast. Drew says he has no desire to impart that wisdom. If she wants inside knowledge about that, she’ll have to look elsewhere.

Sonny says he rarely visited his father, for good reason. When he left, Sonny’s mother ended up with Deke, who beat the hell out of the both of them. The facts haven’t changed, but his feelings have. He doesn’t know if he forgives Mike, but he doesn’t resent him. He doesn’t see the rage that used to be between them. Jason says Sonny’s anger was hard on Mike, but harder on Sonny. It was like a weight he kept trying to put down, and he would for a while, but then something would happen, and he’d pick it back up. Sonny guesses that’s it; the weight is gone.

Mary Pat asks Carly how the visit with her lawyer went. She’s one pushy lady. Carly asks, who? and Mary Pat says since it was that taxing, she has something to help her manage. Carly can barely speak, but she says she doesn’t want it, and leave her alone. Mary Pat says she’s worked up. She knew she shouldn’t have let Diane barge in; some people don’t listen. Carly started out that way, but she’s learning.

Obrecht stands on the pier. She flashes back to Peter saying she should have given Nathan the information about his father years ago. He could have prepared, and had a strategy; made a plan. Even if she kills him, she’ll never escape her own guilt. Curtis is suddenly there, and tells her to be careful. There are all kinds of dangerous characters out on the docks at night. She turns in the opposite direction, and Finn is standing there. He says, nope.

Valentin finds Nina lying on the floor, and picks her up. Poor Peter! Valentin carries Nina outside. Lulu is on the phone, asking them to please hurry; the fire is spreading. Maxie asks where Obrecht is, and Lulu didn’t see her leave. Valentin puts Nina down. Maxie doesn’t think she’s breathing. Valentin does mouth to mouth, ladies everywhere unite in romantic thoughts.

Sonny knows his father is getting older and losing his memory, but it’s the first time he’s felt this close to Mike; not since he was six years old. They can laugh and talk, and he can see why people like him and why his mom fell in love. Now he’s slipping away, just when Sonny is getting to know him. Jason says, something good came out of it. Sonny wishes he had more time. He knows it sounds selfish, but one reason why he didn’t want Carly going through what she is, is that he needs her with him. Diane walks in, and he asks if she saw Carly. Diane says, for five whole minutes, which is all the court order stipulated, and all Ferncliff would allow. Sonny asks how Carly is, and Diane makes a serious face.

Mary Pat looks in Carly’s mouth. She says they might need to redouble the dose. She’ll be sleeping tonight. Carly says, no more pills, but Mary Pat says, the doctors dictate treatment, not the patients. Carly asks when she’s seeing Doc. Mary Pat says he’s away for a few days, but Carly is in good hands. Dr. Lazarus is a visionary, and has had success with lost causes. He has something special in store for her.

Nelle apologizes to Drew for crossing the line. She says she has a morbid curiosity in crime shows and mysteries. She didn’t mean any harm. He’s sorry he doesn’t share her enthusiasm. Michael comes back, and Nelle asks, what took so long? He says he wanted everything perfect for his new bride. She says she’s tired, and can’t wait to snuggle up to her new husband. They leave, and Drew ponders.

Nelle and Michael get into bed and spoon. Michael waits for her to go to sleep, and gets up She opens her eyes. She thinks about Chase saying she deserves a guy who loves her for herself. This marriage of convenience will fizzle out, and Michael will cut her loose. He’ll use the baby as a weapon against her, and claim her child. She’ll be alone again.

Chase does his quarter flipping thing, and looks at Nelle’s picture. He flashes back to meeting with Jordan and Michael, and Jordan saying the fewer people that know, the better. Michael says it will be cruel to his family, but Chase tells him if he wants her out of the family, he’ll have to live with it. This time, Nelle won’t get away. Period. Nelle calls, bringing Chase back to the present. She says Chase was right about everything. She can’t stay married. She needs his help.

Michael goes downstairs. Drew asks if he can’t sleep. Drew points out that they haven’t spent night together for a long time. It might take a while to get used to it. Michael prays it never gets that far.

Diane tells Sonny and Jason that Carly is heavily medicated, and in a padded room wearing restraints. Sonny says he’ll talk to the judge. He wants her out, and doesn’t care about technicalities. Diane says she did try to escape. She also has a new doctor. Sonny asks if he can get to him. Diane doesn’t think there’s anyone Sonny can’t get at, but advises against it. The DA is just waiting for a chance to get him. He’d be leaving himself wide open for extortion. They could transfer Carly to a facility where he can’t reach her. Now is the time to strategize, not use brute force. It will not serve him well. Sonny says he’d have more faith if her last strategy hadn’t put Carly in Ferncliff to begin with. Diane says there were a lot of factors; the DA being one of them. She shoulders most of the blame, let her make this right. She’s going to ask for an independent investigation. Once it’s documented that Carly is over-medicated, she can be transferred to Shadybrook. At the very least, her treatment will be supervised. Sonny says it’s her last chance. Make it work.

Carly is all shaky, and out of it. Mary Pat says Dr. Lazarus is moving in a new direction. It’s unorthodox, but a novel approach to the challenging cases. When he’s done with Carly, she’ll be a piece of cheese. I swear that’s what it sounded like she said, but I cheat and look elsewhere. She said, changed woman.

Finn gets to the island. He asks how long Nina has been out. They explain she was in the fire, and they don’t know. Finn asks if Nina can hear him. She comes to, and coughs. Lulu produces some water, and Finn gives it to Nina. She says she was stuck inside, and almost suffocated. How did she get out? Maxie says Valentin saved her.

Jordan arrests Obrecht on the pier, and reads her rights. Obrecht stoically nods when asked if she understands them. Curtis says he can’t reach Finn. Peter’s location was believed to be Spoon Island. Jordan tells the officers that she’ll have Obrecht transferred, and the WSB can take it from there. There’s a police boat waiting. Obrecht says to tell Anna, now we are even.

Finn asks where Peter is. Maxie says they haven’t seen him. Nina says they have to get him out. Valentin says the smoke was thick, but he didn’t see Peter. Nina tells them that Obrecht had Peter tied up. She lost it completely, and started the fire. Nina wanted to try and get help. Maxie says there are no other entrances. Finn says Peter is still inside, and looks in.

On Monday, Josslyn comes on to Oscar, Drew asks Margaux what business the DA has with his company, and Finn goes in to save Peter.

💍 90 Day Fiancé – the gift that keeps on giving. Tonight was the season premiere of 90 Day Fiancé: What Now?. There seems to be no end to this franchise, which is fine with me. It’s a train wreck I could watch all day. Maybe they should have their own channel. They have enough spin-offs. This one revisited couples down the road. Myriam came to the U.S. to visit Patrick. Meeting his mother was a hurdle, since at the Tell All, mom was not too friendly. And rightly so. It wasn’t so much that Myriam had a boyfriend, but Patrick had to schlep all the way to Paris to find out. As the Countess would say, uncool. Danielle still has one more thing with Mohamed, but that’s coming in the next episode. I can’t wait. I have the feeling there is always going to be one more thing with Mohamed. Until I see him in the headlines anyway. I also can’t wait for this season’s Tell All on Sunday. I’m hoping to get some commentary together about it, since the season was quite lively. Especially when Pedro’s whiny, bitchy sister came for a visit, and he started a fistfight at the home of the Family Chantel. David and Annie are living above storage units in exchange for David working there, and Jorge might have a ten-year-old daughter. I don’t know what’s sadder. These outrageous people who deserve each other, or that I can’t stop watching them.
