Fear the Walking Dead

A man goes inside an abandoned house, kicking garbage out of his way. He lights a lantern. We see it’s Dwight. He looks at a framed photo of Sherry and himself in better days, and flashes back to Daryl telling him, make it right. He tries to rest, but is unsuccessful, so he whittles. He hears something and checks the house. He hears a man coughing in one of rooms, slips into the room, and grabs the man in the dark. The man says he thought the place was empty, but Dwight says, it’s not. The man asks if Dwight lives here, but Dwight says, it doesn’t matter. The man tells Dwight that his name is Jay, and Dwight asks if he’s going to walk out, or does he want Dwight to drag him out? Jay says he got robbed, and he’ll die if he doesn’t get what they stole back. Dwight says, there’s nothing valuable anymore, but Jay says, there is if you’re a diabetic; he had insulin in his bag. Dwight says, he’s full of sh*t. There’s no insulin left. Jay says, there was in his group. They had a guy who could make it, and he believed in miracles until the thieves killed him. They took everything, and with what he had he would have made it through the week. Dwight asks if Jay is messing with him. Does Jay expect him to believe this is a coincidence? Who told him? Jay asks, who told him what? and Dwight gets him down on the floor. He asks, who told Jay about him? Jay said he had a week’s supply. What happens after? Jay says he doesn’t know, but a week in hell is better than being dead. Please. He lost everyone. He owes it to them to make things right, however much time he has left. Dwight asks if Jay knows where the thieves are at, and Jay says he does.

Outside the old Sanctuary, zombies growl, and Dwight asks Jay if the guys who took his medicine are in there. Jay says, yeah, and Dwight says, good luck. He’s going to ask one more time, who told Jay about him? Jay asks why Dwight thinks someone else is involved, and Dwight says, the last time he helped someone get insulin, he ended up here. Jay says, at the factory? and Dwight says, they didn’t call it that then. Jay asks what it was called, and Dwight flashes back to when he lived there under Negan’s oppression. Dwight says, the Sanctuary. His life has been sh*t since he set foot in there. He doesn’t know if it’s Jay or the universe playing a sick joke on him, but he’s not going in there for anyone. Jay says, they’re not that different. His wife was everything to him. They killed her and their son too. Dwight came back alone, and Jay thinks Dwight lost someone too. If they don’t help each other, what are they even doing here? Dwight thinks a moment, and says, all right. He’ll meet Jay back at the house. Dwight looks at the zombie chained to the perimeter fence, and walks around, checking out the lay of the land.

Dwight sneaks inside, and creeps around. He sees windowed double-doors, a light shining behind them, and flashes back to Sanctuary life again. He goes into the room and rifles through the bags. He finds the insulin and finds a picture of Jay with his wife and son. He runs to the exit and sees the symbol for infinity etched on the wall. He looks through the furnace door window at the flames inside and sees the iron hanging next to the furnace and remembers Negan burning his face with the iron. A gun cocks and a voice says, turn around, a-hole. Dwight turns and guard Phil asks what he has there. Dwight says, they took someone’s medicine, and he’s here to get it back. Phil says, somebody did a number on Dwight’s face, and Dwight says, he’ll walk out, and Phil will never have to see his face again. Phil says, Dwight stole from them, and needs to be made an example. They’ll start on the other side of his face. In a lightening swift move, Dwight grabs Phil and shoves – no, shoots – him into the blazing furnace. I’m in awe. A bullet grazes Dwight, and a man asks what the hell he thinks he’s doing. A bunch of men run in and their leader Marty says, they’ll find out. Dwight jets out of the building, and wonders where Jay is. He calls to Jay and zombie Jay comes out from behind the bushes. Dwight knifes him in the head, and says, Daryl should have killed him when he had the chance. He tried make it right. He guesses he couldn’t. Daryl should have killed him. Please come and do it now. He cries – aww – and yells, please! A car approaches and pulls up. Sherry gets out, and asks what Dwight is doing here. She came to find him. June gets out and says she needs him. He passes out.

Inside somewhere, Sherry stitches Dwight up, and he says, they need to get out. Sherry asks, what happened? Who did this? The guy outside? He says, no, and she says, then who? but he says, it doesn’t matter. If they’re seen, those guys will kill them. June says, they’re almost done, and tells Sherry, pinch, pierce, then pull. Dwight asks if June shouldn’t be doing this, but June says, it’s better this way. Dwight says, they need to go, but June says, they’re not leaving without him. Sherry says, a fight is coming, and Dwight asks, what kind of fight? June says, one they can’t win without him, and Sherry says, Troy has a score to settle. He wants to take PADRE from Madison. Dwight says, sounds like her fight, but Sherry says, Madison is MIA, and Victor is in charge. Dwight says, he’s still alive? and she says, a lot has happened since he’s been gone. He asks what it has to do with him, and Sherry says, he’s trained a lot of kids. June says, they trust him and will listen to him, but he says, nothing he does or says to them will help them do any better. He asks why Dove is here, and Dove says, PADRE is the only home she’s known. Without it, she’s got nothing. Dwight gets up, and says he can’t help save those kids. He couldn’t save his own son. June says, that’s not his fault, but he says, it doesn’t matter. Every time he tries to make something right, someone gets hurt. Sherry says, that’s not true, and Dwight says, the guy outside needed insulin, just like her sister. He asked Dwight for help, and he died. The best thing he can do for PADRE and the kids is leave here alone. Sherry asks if he thinks she wanted to come. She came for their son. He says, Finch is gone, but she says, PADRE isn’t. He says, that place is the reason Finch is dead. Why fight for it? She says, maybe something good can come from something bad, and he says, it won’t. She says, they have to try, and he asks, why? She says, Finch’s life needs to mean something. Making PADRE is how they can honor him. Dwight says he can’t go back. He’ll honor Finch in his own way. He gets up, and Sherry asks what he thinks Finch would say if his father walked away from kids who needed protection, and he says, it’s not because he doesn’t care. It’s because he does. He leaves, and June says, it’s fine, but Sherry follows him out.

The three of them go outside, and June radios Dove. Dwight asks, what’s wrong? and Sherry says, Dove has been missing since they woke up. June asks Dove to tell her where she is, when a truck pulls up with Dove driving. June says, she looks hurt, and Sherry runs to the cab. Dove is slumped against the steering wheel. Dove sits back, insisting she doesn’t need help, but June says, she looks wounded. Dove lifts her shirt and shows June a bullet wound, and June checks her out. June says, there’s no exit wound. They need to get the bullet out right away. Sherry asks, who did this? and Dove says, someone tried to steal the truck. They were looking for someone that burned their friend. Dwight says, they have to get her inside, and June says she needs anesthetics. They have to get the bullet out and the wound cleaned before Dove goes into septic shock. Dwight points out that she said we, and June says, they need medical supplies. Marty says he should have known Dove would be with them, and he and his guys come out of the woods. Marty says, sorry about the girl, but what after Dwight did to Phil, it feels like a beautiful karma. Sherry asks what he’s talking about, and Dove says, Dwight’s the one who burned their friend. Marty says, Dove doesn’t look so hot. Maybe they can help. They have top notch medical supplies, but of course Dwight already knows that, since he was inside. Sherry asks Dwight, where? and Dwight says, the Sanctuary. Marty says, tick-tock. What’s it going to be? June asks what he wants in exchange, and Marty says he wants the satisfaction Phil deserves in finishing what he started, and he intends to give it to him. If Dwight hands himself over, he’ll get the girl patched up. Dwight lowers his gun, and Sherry says, nice try, a-hole. There’s a shootout, and Sherry says, they’re going to the Sanctuary now. Dwight says, that psycho will follow them, but Sherry says, they’re on foot. The Sanctuary is 20 miles. They’ll be in and out before Marty knows it. Dwight says, another kid needs surgery. When does it end? June says, they have to help Dove, and Sherry says, they have to go now. Zombies begin toddling out of the woods, and Marty shoots at them. Dwight drives the truck out.

They bring Dove into the Sanctuary, and Dwight tells them, be careful; there could still be people here. Sherry flashes back to Negan, and Dove coughs. Shots ring out, and Dwight shoots back, but runs out of bullets. Zombie Phil scrabbles at the furnace window from inside the furnace, and June says, they need to move. She grabs supplies, and she and Sherry shove stuff in their bags, while Dwight checks the place out. He tells them, the place is clear, but they have to hurry. June says she needs lidocaine. The best they can do is inject anesthesia around the wound. Dwight and Sherry keep flashing back to their time at the Sanctuary, and June tells Sherry to clean the wound. She gives Sherry a syringe and tells her how to do the injection. Dwight says, June should do it, but June says she told him that she can’t. He wonders if it’s about what happened in the train car, but she says, it’s more than that. She tells him, as soon as it’s numb, start the extraction. Dove says she doesn’t want Dwight removing the bullet. He couldn’t save his own son, and he’s not doing the same with her. They feel a rumbling, and the building shakes. Dwight looks out at the tons of zombies who have gotten through the fence and are now pounding at the building. He says, the gunfire must have drawn them. The fence is broken, and they’re piling in. June says, it’s not going to work. The bullet is too close to one of Dove’s arteries. They might do more damage taking it out. Sherry says, the place is hanging on by a thread, and Dwight says, he’ll stay and hold them off for as long as he can. He runs out.

Sherry follows Dwight to the ammo room, and says she knows why he wants to stay and fight the zombies. He doesn’t plan on surviving. He says, maybe Dove is right, and they’re here because of him, but Sherry says, that’s defeatist bullsh*t, and Dwight says, it is what it is, honey. Dwight loads his gun, and she tells him that it doesn’t have to be this way. He says, the guy he tried to help lost more than insulin. He had a wife and kid. He shows her the photo of Jay with his family, and says, he’s about Finch’s age. He tried to help and landed them back in this hellhole. This is not a coincidence and it’s not defeatist mentality. She asks him to tell her what it is, and he points to an infinity symbol on the wall. He says he drew that when they were living here. He put them all over the place, where Negan couldn’t find them. It was them forever. It kept him going and made him feel like they could turn something bad into something good. Maybe they can, but not if he’s with them. He’s so tired of making people suffer for it. Sherry says, so he’s going to kill himself? and he says he’s going to clear the walkers. Maybe they can save Dove and honor Finch. She calls him a selfish a-hole and locks him in the room. She says, he doesn’t get to give up like this, and she leaves as he pounds on the door.

Outside, there’s a multitude of zombies, and June hears metal creaking. She says, they have to wait until the building is more stable and they need extra hands. Dove says, it’s not about June’s finger (the one Shrike removed) or what happened on the train. What’s the real reason? June says, it’s not important, but Dove says, June is a nurse. She’s got a bullet in her, and every minute they wait is a minute she’s closer to dying. June says, Dove isn’t dying. What happened to them isn’t going to happen to her. Dove asks, who’s them? and June says, Finch, Hannah, and her daughter Rose. Dove says, June has a kid? and June says, yeah. She would have been Dove’s age. Dove asks, what happened? and June says, she had pneumonia. June went out to look for medicine, came back and… it just was too late. She cries and says she couldn’t save her daughter, just like she couldn’t save Finch. Dove says, now she knows PADRE was right. June can’t protect her; none of them can. She can’t exactly say why she wanted to get away, but she didn’t come here for Red Kite. She wanted to get as far away from PADRE as she could. She was running away. June says, she told them it was the only home she’d ever known, and Dove says, was. It’s gone now, and people like June are in charge. They just let the kids down. That’s what people do who can’t get over their own sh*t. Metal bangs, and June radios Dwight and Sherry, asking, what’s happening? Do they copy? Outside battling zombies, Sherry says she’s working on it. She just locked Dwight in their old room. June asks, why? and Sherry says, PADRE needs him. The kids will follow him. They know he’s right. June says, what about her? and Sherry says she’ll keep the zombies at a distance, but June says, she can’t on her own. Sherry says, just do what she came to do; help Dove and get Dwight back to PADRE. The zombies have been pushing at the fence between them and Sherry, and it suddenly comes down, right on top of Sherry. Sherry’s gun and radio are just out of reach, and June keeps trying to get her.

Inside, Dwight tries to get out of their old room. He breaks a chair. The zombies are right on top of Sherry, along with the fence, their snapping faces just inches from hers. Dwight looks at the infinity symbol, while June keeps trying to radio Sherry. This is all very intense. Dwight hammers at the door, and the zombies keep piling on the fence. Sherry flashes back to memories of Finch. June gets into Dwight’s room and tells him that Sherry needs him. He runs out, and Sherry flashes back to burying Finch. Dwight is there, pulling the zombies off the fence, and slicing and dicing them.

Dove stands in the bathroom and groans. She’s broken a mirror and is about to take the bullet out herself with a shard. June – who’s having quite a busy episode – says, Dove will die. She needs help. Dove says she’s not getting it from them or June, and starts to cry. She’s about to cut herself, and June says, no! Stop! Dove drops the glass and falls to the floor.

Sherry asks how Dwight got out, and he says, June let him out. Sherry says she had it covered, but he tells her that she was lying to herself about honoring Finch and keeping him alive to fight for PADRE. It’s bullsh*t. She says, he’s wrong, and he says, is he? Or did she lock him up because she was planning on doing the same thing? Sherry asks if he thinks she wants to die, and he says he knows she did. She doesn’t really believe good can come from bad. She wants to, he does too, but she can’t. She says, if that’s true, she doesn’t know how she can go on living. Marty comes back and says he had the feeling he’d find them here. Sherry and Dwight run back in, and Marty goes in shooting.

The building is still shaking like crazy, and June checks Dove’s pulse. Dwight says, their friends are here. The door is locked, but it won’t hold. Sherry says, they have to go somewhere safer, and June grabs supplies. She gets on one side, Sherry on the other, and they help Dove up and out of the room. Everything starts to crumble, and zombies are coming in. June says, they’re surrounded, and Sherry shoots as many as she can. They see Marty coming, and June says, they’ve got to get out, but Dwight says, there’s nowhere to go. The zombies are getting the better of Marty and his friends, and I laugh. Light fixtures and beams start falling, and Sherry and Dwight nearly get creamed, but they jump aside at the last second. June stabs a zombie coming for her and Dove. Zombies continue to stream in, and Marty gets Dwight up against the furnace, Phil still scratching at the window. Marty says, remember how he told Dwight about giving his friend the satisfaction? He thinks he’s going to enjoy this more than Phil. He starts to open the furnace door, but Dwight grabs the iron and whacks him away with it, into a waiting zombie’s open arms. June says, they have nowhere to go, but Dwight says, the fire’s out. Let’s go inside. The building begins to collapse.

Inside the furnace, Dove asks, what happened? June says, the building is collapsing, and Dove says, it still hurts. This is never going to work. Sherry isn’t so sure this will help, but Dwight, keeping his lighter going so they can see, says, maybe it can. They hear metal clanging, and he says, the furnace is stable and will protect them from whatever is happening out there. June can do the surgery in here. June says she can’t, but he says, yes, she can. She asks how he knows, and he says, Sherry was right. Maybe something good can come from something bad. Maybe that’s the reason they wound up here. They needed each other to see it. Prepping Dove, June says she doesn’t want to hurt her, and Dove says, then don’t. Sherry says, June can do this. What happened to her, and them, doesn’t have to happen again. Maybe they just needed to work through the bad to get to the good. She half-smiles at Dwight, and June asks if Dove trusts her. Dove says, ask her again after the bullet is out, and June says, fair enough. She takes out her supplies, and Dwight keeps the lighter going.  

The oven opens and they come out. It’s practically the only thing left standing. There are a few errant zombies wandering around, and zombie Marty lies on the floor pinned there by another zombie. Dwight says, holy sh*t. It’s over. He asks how Dove is doing, and June says, she’s still resting. She’s going to be okay. Sherry looks up, and there’s a finch perched on what’s left of a wall. Are they trying to make me cry? June says, they should probably hit the road, and Dwight asks how she’s doing. June says, better, and he says he never should have left. Maybe they can turn the place into what it’s supposed to be, the way Finch wanted it to be. Sherry says she thinks they can.

Dwight says he made something for June, and gives her a finger he’s carved. He says, back in the train car, before it went the way it did, he asked her to be part of their family. He ran away, but he’s here now, so the offer still extends to her, and Dove as well. Sitting in the driver’s seat of the truck, Dove says, thank you, Red Kite, but Dwight says, she’s family. It’s Dwight. She says she’s Odessa, and he says he likes it. They should go. They have a lot of work to do. June and Sherry get into the truck, and Dwight looks around for a moment, then gets in. They pull away.

A song plays from a 45 on a turntable, something about sailing to Spain. Over the radio, we hear Russel say, nothing yet. Sorry. Troy says, his daughter is alive and well, and they will find her. We see it’s Victor’s turntable, and a little girl screams as she’s let down the hall by a man and a woman. She’s also blindfolded, and she says she hates this place. Where is she? Where’s her dad? They bring her to Victor, and in German, the man says, they found her for him. The woman asks, what does he want them to do? and Victor says, he’ll handle it. He tells the girl that he’s going to remove the blindfold. He does, and she asks, who is he? What does he want with her? He says, his name is Victor, and her eyes get huge. He says, it’s a good thing found her. She asks, why? and he says he’s going to help her. And she’s going to help him. She says, do what? and he says, save PADRE. He tries to touch her face, but she jerks away, and he smiles.

Next time, a stuck herd of zombies; Madison thinks she sees Alicia; Victor says, it’s not about him or her, but about PADRE; Troy wonders what makes them think he’ll make a deal; Victor gets attacked by zombies; Troy says, it doesn’t end well, and Luciana says, for you.

General Hospital

At the MetroCourt, Carly tells Bobbie, she should sue. Diane would gladly take the case. Bobbie says, another lawsuit would only hurt the hospital, and Carly says the hospital fired her. Bobbie says, Cyrus fired her, but Carly says, they both know he had help. They look over to see Valentin sitting with Martin.

Valentin thinks Martin should have a shot. After the antics of his last client, he could use one. Martin says he’s sure he doesn’t know what Valentin means, and Valentin wonders if Nelle’s latest disappearing act is for real.

Sam tells Jason, her actions caused Bobbie and Monica to be fired, but Jason thinks it’s reaching just a little bit. She says, is it? She gave Valentin consent to vote Danny and Scout’s proxy. He says, and she was assigned a new parole officer. She says, so he was able to move back in, and that’s great, but it left the hospital open for Cyrus’s control. He thinks it’s her fault, doesn’t he?

Alexis looks at the syringe, now sitting in a plastic bag. Julian says, the police are on their way to pick up the evidence. She says she’s not sure why, since it was accidental. He says, maybe he should take it, and reaches for it, but Alexis snatches it up. He says because of the prevalence of opioid deaths, the police are treating all drug induced OD’s as homicides.

Jordan asks why Cyrus murdered Neil, and he says, I beg your pardon? She says, it’s a simple question, and she’s not wearing a wire. He can speak freely. Why did he kill Neil? He says, all right; he’ll play along. Who’s Neil? She says he died of an OD, with no prior history of drug use, and he says, by definition, addicts are good at hiding their addiction. She says, like Bob and Mark? and he says, how hypocritical of them. They planted the evidence that framed him for being a drug lord, when they were sampling the wares. He can’t thank her enough for exposing their corruption. She says she doesn’t know what game he’s playing, but what’s the connection between him and Neil?

Josslyn, Cameron, and Trina go to Charlie’s. Trina goes over to say hello to Ava at the bar, and Josslyn says she’s been meaning to tell Cameron that she knows. He says, okay… She says now that she knows, they don’t have to be weird. She and Trina talked through everything, and she’s totally cool with it.

Alexis asks Julian if she’s supposed to believe Neil was a user all this time, when she had no idea. Not when he was her therapist, not when they were stumbling through their relationship, not even when he was in her own bed, but apparently, he was. There was the bloodwork, a puncture wound, and now Julian found the syringe under her bed. Julian suggests he hang on to it until the police get there, and Alexis says she was so certain that she was making a better choice. It turns out she was just falling for a better liar.

Valentin doesn’t suppose part of Martin’s service was to hustle Nelle off to an undisclosed location. Martin says, no, and Valentin wonders if he’s not saying anything because of professional ethics, or because Nelle owes him money.

Carly says, when Valentin took over, his first act was to bail on the hospital, opening the door to Cyrus. His second act was to fire Michael. Bobbie says, and now he’s having a drink in Carly’s restaurant. She doesn’t think so. Bobbie stomps over to Valentin’s table, and says she had the misfortune to marry his brother Stephan. He was bad, but Valentin is infinitely worse, handing the hospital over to the likes of Cyrus. He says, sorry, and she says she wants to smack the smirk off his face. Carly says she’s right behind Bobbie, and Brick walks in. He says, no doubt. It looks like he got there just in time.

Alexis tells Julian, she didn’t know Neil was an addict, but she’s good at spotting other addicts, since she is one. It’s like a funhouse, with everyone distorted in their own unique way. Julian says she doesn’t know for sure Neil was an addict. He could have been a recreational user; those people exist. Or he could have been a high-functioning addict. Plenty of successful people are. Alexis says she doesn’t know anything right now. She’s going to drive herself crazy, going over every detail of what Neil did or didn’t do. Julian says, from what he’s seen, Neil was a complicated guy dealing with a lot, including his emotions and feelings for her. Alexis gives him a look.

Ava says Trina has been holding out on her. She’s so talented. Her performance with her friends at the Nurses Ball was spectacular. Trina asks if Ava and Nikolas had a good time, and Ava says she knows what Trina is doing. Trina doesn’t have to look out for her. She and Nikolas know where they stand with each other.

Cameron asks Josslyn what everything she’s talking about, and Josslyn says, don’t worry. Trina says it’s not a big deal. He says, good to know, and she says she doesn’t want him to feel he has to keep it secret. Portia walks in, and Trina tells Ava that her counselor said she could get additional credit for working at the gallery, so she can give Ava ten extra hours. Ava appreciates her enthusiasm, but thinks Trina should speak to her mother. She might have other plans. Portia asks, does Trina mind if she and Ava take a moment to catch up? Trina asks if Portia promises to be nice, and Portia asks if Trina promises to be nice to Curtis. Train tells her, try not to break anything too expensive. Ava tells Portia, if this is about Trina asking for more hours, she said Trina needed to clear it with her first. Portia says she’ll bring that up later, but first, they need to talk.

Cyrus tells Jordan, he’s not aware of any connection between him and Neil. The first time he’s heard Neil’s name is when she said it just now. She says his innocent act is wasted on her, since he kidnapped her son, and made her turn a blind eye to his drug shipment getting through. He says he’s never kidnapped anyone in his life, and no one can make her do anything. She’s always had the power to make her own choices. She says, Neil died under similar circumstances to Mark and Bob; the same pattern. Cyrus says, people die all the time. That doesn’t mean he had a hand in it. She says, unless they were his drugs. Then he’s legally responsible. He says she exonerated him. Although now, she comes to him late at night, hurling accusations and innuendos, reviving a vendetta against an innocent man.

Jason says it sounds like Sam wants him to be angry with her, but she says she wants him to tell the truth. He asks when he’s lied to her, and she says, never. He doesn’t say anything, and she says, ELQ was supposed to bail out the hospital. She should have known Valentin was up to something. All she cared about was getting a new parole officer, and getting to spend time with him. He says she’s only responsible for the proxy she signed over to Valentin. Valentin took control of the majority, and it was his decision not to help GH. Those were his actions, not hers. She says, it was selfish. She got what she wanted, and because of her actions, people she cares about are paying for it.

Julian tells Alexis, he knows more than most people that it’s complicated to lead a double life. Neil was confused, and he may have been confused about a number of things, but he knows that Neil genuinely cared for her. She says, dying in her bed was a funny way to show it, and he tells her, she has no idea how many secrets Neil might have been keeping, but anyone could tell his feelings for her were genuine. She says he should go. She appreciates him coming by, but can’t have him there to turn to. He says, that’s different. If she needs anything, let him know. For what it’s worth, he’s sorry it happened. It was nice to see her happy again.

Trina sits back down, and Josslyn says she told Cameron what they talked about, so they’re all on the same page. No more secrets. Trina says she’s glad to hear it, and Cameron says, excellent.

Ava tells Portia, with all due respect, she’s already apologized for overstepping with Trina. Portia says, she did, and Ava says she’s not sure what more she can do. Portia says she realized she came on strong, and made assumptions about Ava’s motivations. Ava says, as a mother, in protecting one’s child, you can never be too careful; she understands. Portia says, whatever Ava’s motivation in helping Trina, she realizes it came from a genuine place, and thanks her. Trina’s work at the gallery is grounding, and she realizes it’s even more important now, in the wake of her father’s death. She believes Ava when she says her intentions were honorable. Ava says she appreciates that, and Portia says, but she doesn’t believe Ava has led an honorable life. She won’t prevent Trina from working at the gallery, but won’t be taking her eyes off Trina either.

Cyrus says Jordan exonerating him doesn’t seem that long ago He doesn’t think he dreamed it or imagined it. She says he threatened to kill her son unless she did what he wanted, and he says, what imagination she has. He’s making a fresh start, and exploring the possibilities available to a free man. He tells her, thank you, waits, then says, say you’re welcome. She says he’s made himself welcome enough. He doesn’t need to hear her say it. Since he’s an innocent man leading an innocent life, he doesn’t require the police commissioner. She’s met the terms of their extremely one-sided agreement, and they’re done. He tells her, don’t be so sure.

Sam asks if Jason is telling her that he’s okay with what she did. Jason says he hates that Monica and Bobbie lost their jobs; it’s awful and unfortunate, but it’s not permanent. She asks how he’s so sure, and he says, Cyrus is testing the truce already. When he breaks it, he’s gone. She says, what about Valentin? and he says, the Quartermaines have lost control of ELQ before. They’ll get it back. Michael is smart, with a cool head, and he’s not distracted by the custody case anymore. She says, it really doesn’t bother him that her actions are what set things in motion?

Jason says, it’s not like Valentin gave Sam a choice. He knows she acted in good faith. It’s done. It’s over. She can’t change it. Let’s just move on. Her phone rings, and she says, it’s Julian. He has the worst timing. She tells Julian that she’s in the middle of something. What does he want? He says he was at her mother’s. He just left, and Neil’s OD is hitting her hard. He found a syringe under her bed. They both know he’s not the right person to be with her mother, but Alexis shouldn’t be alone. Sam says she’ll be right over, and thanks him. She tells Jason what happened, and he says he’ll go with her.

Officer Gonzalez comes downstairs, and tells Alexis, there was no other paraphernalia, but forensics wants to look around. Alexis says she’s not going to be sleeping up there anytime soon, and Officer Gonzalez says if they have any more questions, they’ll contact her. Alexis says she’s fresh out of answers.

Cyrus says he appreciates Jordan’s faith in him adjusting to life outside, but it takes time, especially after such a long stretch. She tells him not to sell himself short. Clearly her services are no longer required. He says she’s gone from callous pessimist to wide-eyed optimist. She needs to split the difference, and become a pragmatist. An old friend might come in handy. Isn’t that what she was thinking when she invited Taggert back to town, or did she feel it was a mistake? Another hasty decision. Look at the damage that was done to that poor man.

Martin says, amusing as it might be to watch them deck his client, he’d be compelled to call the cops. Carly tells Bobbie, they’ll leave Valentin alone, and invites Brick to have a drink. Valentin says, good idea, and she says no one asked him. Bobbie tells Carly that Scotty is taking her out to dinner, and leaves. Martin tells Valentin, let it go, but Valentin says Bobbie is wrong. He’s nothing like Stephan, who was consumed with ghosts. Martin asks if Valentin’s ghosts are under control, and Valentin says he doesn’t believe in ghosts. Martin says he’d like to know why Julian was looking for him; does he miss his wife? Valentin says, Julian is looking to get out of a marriage of crippling inconvenience, which leads him to wonder what leverage Nelle had to get Julian to marry her in the first place. He had the impression the leverage was in Martin’s possession. Is it?

Ava says, normally if someone spoke to her like that, she’d tell them to go to hell. She’d say they don’t know about her, or what been through in her dishonorable life. Portia asks if that’s what Ava is telling her, but Ava says, on the contrary. If she was in Portia’s shoes, and her daughter was working for a woman with her… colorful past, she’d be… Portia says, cautious? and Ava says, livid. She’d never take her eyes off her daughter. As a mother, there’s nothing more important than a child’s safety or happiness. Trina is determined to work extra hours, but Portia should feel free to say no. Portia wonders if Ava is asking her to turn Trina down, but Ava says, no, but don’t feel obligated. Portia says, seven days is a big ask, and Ava says, if they start to drive each other crazy, she’ll send Trina on an errand. Portia says, when Trina returns with coffee in five minutes, what then? and Ava says she’ll send Trina to Tokyo to pick up on what’s trendy. That will take longer. Portia says, Ava is kidding, right? She does have a couple of requests. She asks Ava to keep an eye on Trina, and if she’s there to work, make her work. Ava says, of course (🍷). As if she could stop Trina. The gallery might seem like a placid boutique, but there’s a lot to do. She tells Portia, feel free to pop in and check up on Trina. Portia is sure it won’t be necessary, and Ava says, yet she has the feeling Portia will. Portia says, at least once a week. Maybe more. Ava says she’s always welcome, and Portia thanks her. Trina asks if everything is okay, and Portia says she’s giving Trina permission to work extra hours.

Julian comes in, and Ava says she hears congratulations are in order. He asks, for what? and she says she heard his wife – who makes her look like Mother Teresa – is gone. Why is he in a foul mood? He should be celebrating the end of his hellish marriage. He says his hellish marriage is far from being over. She asks what Nelle did now, and he says she claimed to have left a letter detailing his role in Wiley’s kidnapping with her lawyer. Until he gets the letter, he’s on borrowed time. She says Julian should have let her kill Nelle when she offered.

Sam says she thought Alexis was going to stay at their place, but Alexis says she couldn’t. Sam says Julian called her; she’s so sorry, Alexis wonders how she couldn’t know, and Sam tells her, don’t blame herself. Alexis asks how someone who presents themselves as a decent, wonderful person could do something like that? How could he?  

Martin says his hypothetical sometimes client – he’s not naming names… Valentin says, Nelle, and Martin says, it’s hypothetical. Valentin suggests Medea, and Martin says, Medea it is. Medea has left some loose ends, providing actual proof of her departure is permanent. Martin doesn’t know what Valentin’s interest is, so why should he share secrets? Valentin says, Nelle is currently a friendless fugitive wanted for murder and attempted kidnapping, and wonders if Martin’s ability to keep secrets is based on the size of the retainer. Martin says he’ll take care Nelle’s affairs in any way he pleases, and Valentin says, just make sure his take precedence.

Carly asks if Sonny called Brick, but Brick says he was on his way to another assignment. He had time to stop by and say hello to Sonny. She asks if Sonny knows he’s in town, and he says he was at Turning Woods earlier. She says then he knows what’s going on with Mike, and he says, sadly, he does.

Julian tells Ava that Nelle left the letter with her attorney Martin, and Ava says, ugh. That man is a reptile in a linen suit. If Nelle left the letter with him, and it incriminates Julian, Martin will absolutely use it for his own gain. He says that’s why she’s going with him to help find it.

Trian asks Portia if she can stay longer, and Josslyn says her driver will drop Trina off. Portia tells Trina to text when she’s on her way, and not after Curfew. Trina says, definitely.

Cyrus says Jordan saw how Taggert’s poor family suffered. First, by his violent death, and then when she revealed how honorable Taggert was anything but. The shame rained down on that man’s family… But fortunately, families are resilient. Take hers for instance. She tells him, stay away from her family, and he says, or what? She says she doesn’t know. Neither of them know what she might be capable of. She doesn’t want to find out; does he? He says he’s sure it won’t come to that. Isn’t the motto of every police force to serve and protect? That’s what’s going to happen between them. She says, in serving, she’ll also protect him? and he says, that’s everybody’s job on the force, right? He tells her, goodnight. Oh, and if she ever decides to drop by for another late night chat, ask herself if it’s worth his trouble. She walks out.

Jordan runs into Portia outside of Charlie’s, and asks how Trina is. Portia says, fine. She’s loving her job, her friends, and school, so Portia can’t complain. Nothing will take away losing her father, but it does give her the structure she needs to heal and work through it. Jordan asks if there’s anything she can do, but Portia says nothing short of clearing Taggert’s name will satisfy Trina. Jordan wishes that were possible, and Portia says, there is one thing she’d like to clear the air about. She knows Curtis told Jordan about their conversation. Jordan says he did, and Portia says she wanted Jordan to know, woman to woman, she shouldn’t have brought up something that was clearly in the past. She has no designs on Jordan’s husband. Jordan laughs, and says she appreciates Portia making that clear.

Julian messes with the lock on Martin’s office door, and says Ava knows what to do, right? She says, if she sees something, text something, and tells him to make sure he notices. She asks if he has a secret spy code, and he says he doesn’t think that would make him look more innocent. She asks if he’s sure there’s no alarm, he says he’s not. He gets the door open, and she says, hurry up. He goes into the office.

Alexis says when she was lying next to Neil, and they were planning their future, he was waiting for her to fall asleep so he could shoot up. Jason says she doesn’t know what Neil was thinking, and Sam says, Jason is right. She doesn’t know what was going through Neil’s mind at the time. Alexis agrees, and says, Neil was a multitasker. He could have been planning his life and thinking about shooting up at the same time. Sam says Alexis sounds morbid, and she doesn’t want Alexis to be by herself. She suggests Alexis come home with them, but Alexis doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Jason says, Danny and Scout love having her there, and she’d be close to Sam, but Alexis says she has a lot of feelings right now, and they’re not pretty. She doesn’t want to have them in front of her grandchildren. Sam says she’ll stay there, but Alexis says, no. Jason just got home, and Sam should be home with her family. Sam doesn’t feel good leaving Alexis, but Alexis says she needs privacy. Sam says if she starts feeling depressed, or more depressed, call. Or call if she feels like drinking. Alexis says, yes to all of it, and thanks them for coming by. She and Sam hug.

While Josslyn is away from the table, Cameron says he can’t believe Trina told Josslyn about… you know. She says she didn’t want it to be a deep, dark secret. Now that it’s out in the open, it’s no big deal. He says he doesn’t want everyone talking, and she says, Josslyn isn’t everyone, and only three people know. He says, you know what they say about three people keeping a secret. In order for them to do it, two of them have to be… She says, what? and he says, never mind. Josslyn comes back, and says she has the best idea about the three of them.

Julian rifles through Martin’s files. Ava hears Martin telling Valentin that he is billing him for this. She texts, GET OUT NOW!!! three times. They get close to the door, and Ava tries to send another message, but it says communication failure. Martin puts his key in the lock, and Julian realizes they’re coming in.

Carly tells Brick, Sonny gave Mike one last afternoon at the track. It was good for him to be around the horses, and it was special to Sonny. Brick says he always admired Sonny, but seeing him care for Mike, being there for him, he admires Sonny even more. Carly says Brick was the one who helped Sonny step up for Mike. It was like using a Lamborghini as a golf cart. He says he was honored to help, but if he looks better to her, that’s even better. She says, it’s not fair. He comes there, flirts with her, and takes off on another mission. He asks if she’s telling him to stop, and she says, not a chance. They clink glasses.

Julian hides, and the fire alarm goes off. We see Ava has pulled it, like we didn’t guess that. Martin says, what the hell…?

Josslyn says, it’s almost homecoming, and suggests they all go together. Cameron says, the three of them? and Josslyn says, the four of them. They can’t forget Dev. Cameron and Trina say, sure they can, and Josslyn says they can still dress up and have fun, but no romantic drama. And they won’t have to worry about who they’ll kiss at the end of the night. Trina says, good idea, and Cameron says, he’s in.

Jordan tells Portia, forget she brought up the past. It’s better for them to move on with no tiptoeing around things. Their only worry is that Trina is still blaming Curtis for Tagger’s death. Portia says she keeps telling Trina that she’s dishonoring her father’s wishes, but does she listen? Jordan says, she’s more stubborn than Taggert is. Portia says, was. She still does that too; talk like he’s still there. Trina is young and headstrong, but one day she’ll realize there are few men with as much integrity as Curtis. Jordan says that’s kind of her to say, and Portia says, of course (🍷) Jordan and Curtis are lucky to have found each other.

Julian asks Ava, what happened? She says she had no reception, so she pulled the alarm. Why should he be the only one committing a felony? Julian says, if Martin has the letter, it’s not in his office.

In Martin’s office, Valentin says, someone was looking for something, and Martin says, obviously. The lookout probably pulled the fire alarm. In any case – he pulls the ELQ folder out of a drawer, and takes another from his briefcase – here’s everything Valentin needs to sign. Just put his John Hancock there. Valentin says Martin had it right there? and Martin says, except the final revision of the offer in question. He would have brought that too, but he didn’t know he’d be seeing Valentin. He makes a practice never to be apart from his most sensitive documents. We see Nelle’s letter in his briefcase.

On the phone, Cyrus asks Walker where they are on the new Chief of Staff. He can’t wait to meet them in person. He tells Walker that Neil OD’d, and wonders where he got the drugs that killed him. I wouldn’t be surprised if Neil had been Cyrus’s therapist, since Cyrus is so au currant.

Alexis looks at a glass of water, but sees a shot. She says, one day at a time, and takes a sip.

Sam tells Jason that she thought she was doing the right thing. To her, there was nothing more important than them being together. She was wrong, and she’s sorry for what it cost. Jason tells her, like he said, it’s over.

Tomorrow, Ava tells Franco that they should cut their losses, Elizabeth tells Nikolas that his fake screwed up marriage is screwing up her real one, and Nina speaks to the jewelry designer.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – The Reunion – Part Two (Home Edition)

Ugh. Even in the preview I hate the stupid faces they make. Denise eats chips. I get my vanilla wafers ready.

Andy says, this season Kyle was under attack for calling the women a group of fake-ass bitches. It made the group wonder if it takes one to know one. We flash back to Kyle being insulting, interrupting everyone, and being a moron in general. In one clip, she says she’s not friends with a-holes. I beg to differ. Andy asks why she thinks everyone came after her, and she says when she left L.A. to do her clothing line, then went to North Carolina for Halloween, she’d been going back and forth, and was tired. She felt like everyone was coming at her, and not being honest. Which answered the question not at all. Adam from Baltimore asks Dorit why she told everyone she had a life when she was late for Teddi’s retreat. It sounded self-centered and condescending, and she pissed Erika off. Erika admits to being pretty drunk, and we flash back to that. Yep. She was. Erika says they all have busy lives, and Dorit says Teddi claimed it made no difference what time they got there, yet she was attacked. Kyle says that’s extreme, but Dorit says she didn’t feel welcome, and had to defend herself. She didn’t mean the rest of them didn’t have lives. Kyle says she felt like Dorit was showing up to show off her outfit more than to support Teddi. Dorit says beforehand, she was taking pictures to promote her business. Teddi says everyone else keeps bringing it up; she had nothing to do with it. She didn’t think Kyle was defending her, just pointing out the obvious. A viewer asks how Teddi felt when Erika said she didn’t feel like being there. Teddi says she had to move on from it, and while they’re on the Teddi subject, Dorit doesn’t know why Kyle can’t acknowledge her friendship with Teddi is different from her friendship with the rest of them. Maybe it’s true. She says this like it’s tabloid fodder, and none of us have ever had a friend we’re closer to than our other friends. Kyle says, of course it is. Teddi is a better friend to her. It makes sense; they have more in common. Dorit is glad Kyle is finally admitting it. Seriously, are these women that bored? Kyle says Dorit acts like it’s a crime. She’s slept in the same bed with her friends and sisters her whole life; it’s not weird. Stirring the pot, even though there isn’t much to stir, Andy points out that Kyle insulted Erika by suggesting Erika didn’t have close friends. Kyle tries to cover her ass by saying she meant friends close enough to sleep in the same bed. Just an aside, while I wouldn’t mind sharing if necessary, being an adult, I’d rather have my own bed if it’s an option. Erika says they have different lives, and not everyone has that type of relationship. Just because they don’t have the same experience doesn’t make it wrong or bad.

Dorit wants to address the astrology party, where Kyle said she wasn’t as good a friend as she’d thought. Kyle says she was just frustrated and apologizes, but Dorit doesn’t listen and asks Kyle to justify telling her that. Kyle repeats that she apologized and explained, but Dorit says she hasn’t explained. Kyle says Dorit wanted to take credit for her fashion show, and her hiring Wilson Philips for her party. No surprise, Kyle won’t let Dorit respond, and just keeps babbling. Kyle says she never spoke against Dorit, yet Dorit threw her business under the bus, saying Kyle didn’t know what she was doing. There’s a break, and I realize I’m holding my breath.

Kyle says she was shocked, and we revisit Kyle freaking out when she checked out her line before the fashion show. We see Dorit’s interview, where she wondered how Kyle couldn’t have seen the pieces beforehand, and if she just woke up and said she’d throw a show together and be a success. No need for experience or know-how. Kyle says, of course she was freaking out; Dorit said she didn’t know what she was doing. Kyle once again refuses to let Dorit talk, and says Dorit came to her house and she felt like they were friends for life. Then Dorit made fun of her in her interview. She thought they were better friends than that. Dorit says she never slammed Kyle’s designs. She poked fun at Kyle for not being prepared, and she thought Kyle should have been. Garcelle says Kyle got more upset at her saying she’d felt glazed over than she did over Dorit hurting her business. She didn’t seem that mad. Dorit says Kyle just blamed her, but never spoke to her directly. Instead she went to Twitter and the press. Kyle says she was upset, thinking Dorit had slammed her business. Dorit says Kyle told everyone her fashion show was in a warehouse, and Kyle says she had to fight back. She wasn’t going to sit there like a moron. No comment. Too easy. Dorit asks why Kyle didn’t text her, and Kyle asks why Dorit said it in the first place. Andy wants to move forward, and Dorit says she’s very sorry, and wishes Kyle success. She adds she’s always there if Kyle needs anything, and Kyle says she appreciates it. I see why they had to focus on the whole Denise/Brandi thing this season. Apparently, they didn’t have a show without it. Wake me when it’s over.

Andy says, moving on. He asks why Kyle thinks Denise is a fake-ass bitch, and Kyle says Denise claims she doesn’t care about the glam thing, but then defended Dorit. She felt like everyone was putting on an act, and not being genuine, but she was singled out. Bob in Syosset says Denise is the sexiest women alive, and asks how she felt when Kyle called her a ragamuffin. Denise says she was surprised, but wondered if could trademark it somehow, like Ragamuffin Clothing. I actually like that idea. Kyle says, when she was a kid, if she left the house looking messy, her mom said, don’t run around like a ragamuffin. Andy asks if Denise was offended, but Denise says she didn’t care. No pot stirring for you there, Andy. Kyle says she apologized, and Denise says, after the backlash on social media. Denise says she was defending Dorit about being glam when Kyle got upset. It was like, how dare Denise defend her when she looks like a ragamuffin? Either they’re not glam enough or too glam. Andy asks, where’s the middle ground?  

Dorit’s phone keeps repeating low battery over and over, and everyone is like WTF? Andy says Caleb in Topeka asks how Lois is, and LisaR says she misses Lois. She hasn’t seen her in five months. Lois is in assisted living though, and doing great. Andy says LisaR loves the spotlight, like this is news. Her daughter opened up about her anxiety on social media, and she was judged as a mother. He supposes it was attention she could do without. We flash back to everything Amelia, and Andy asks if LisaR thought about what she does on Instagram. She says, as a mother, she’s always aware. Garcelle tells LisaR, what she said wasn’t about shaming; it was just a reality check. Andy asks Teddi if she relates to the issue, and Teddi says as parents, they’re already coping with the struggle, and already feel guilty, so it shouldn’t be made part of a light conversation. Garcelle says she wasn’t being flippant, but Teddi says she said it in front of all of them; it was a low blow. Garcelle has no response. I’m not surprised, since this is stupid even for Teddi. Andy says, Sutton said LisaR’s dancing on Instagram was weird, and Sutton says, that’s not a bad thing. Dorit says, it had a negative connotation. I see she’s been reading again, and is using big words. Sutton says Dorit is making it into something bigger than it is, and LisaR says, it is weird. Dorit says if her daughter didn’t like her doing it, would LisaR continue, and LisaR says, of course not. She’d never do anything to hurt her kids. Andy asks if there’s an update on Amelia’s $6000 a month apartment, and LisaR says, $5700, but who’s counting,? and explains it’s all Amelia’s money from modeling. She’s doing well (apparently), and some days aren’t as much of a struggle, but she’ll always have issues. Charlotte from Birmingham says Denise looked horrified when LisaR said she’d taught her daughters the right way to do a BJ in her book. Did she think LisaR went too far? Denise says she doesn’t think they should judge each other (mic drop). Erika says, it was a lovely bomb LisaR’s daughters dropped on her in Tokyo, and we flash back to that. LisaR says her daughters could care less about reading any book, but one of their friends brought it out. Andy mentions LisaR’s latest nakey picture, and LisaR admits that she loves attention and pushes boundaries, like we didn’t know, and Kyle says, nobody owns it better. I choke on a cookie.

Garcelle asks if anyone is drinking yet. Jordan from Austin asks how Teddi’s baby is, and Teddi explains about how the baby’s head wasn’t formed right in utero, and she needs neurosurgery. She says, everyone says she’ll be fine, but Teddi is obviously distressed about it. Not that I blame her. I might not like Teddi, but wouldn’t wish that on anyone. FYI, baby Dove had the surgery since then, and everything turned out fine. Andy says Teddi’s pregnancy seemed to be an afterthought to the women. We flash back to Teddi’s interview where she says, apparently, she’s proceeding in this friend group as though she’s not pregnant. They talk about the name Dove, which Teddi wanted, but Edwin wouldn’t agree, until she pitched it by telling him that it was an emoji. Erika says, while Teddi ate a lot of Tums, she never used her pregnancy as an excuse for anything. Erika was freaked out more than Teddi was. Andy points out that the bunny is behind him, having made the trip to the Hamptons. Kyle says, it went to Bravocon and Watch What Happens Live in L.A. The bunny gets around. Andy says, the bunny is legendary, and asks if it’s LisaR’s go-to baby gift. LisaR says it is, and even though she acts like she’s not still upset about Kim giving it back to her, I think she is. She says the company went out of business though, so now she’ll have to get a different bunny. Zzzzzzz… What I said before about Denise. They talk about Teddi’s daughter Slate, and how she severed the tip of her finger when a door closed on it. Teddi says she put it on ice, and when she called 911, the first thing they told her was not to put it on ice. Good to know. She says she took it off, wrapped it in gauze, and put it in a Ziplock bag. She called several people, and Dr. Nassif met her at the ER. Andy asks if Teddi was as boring as Sutton thought she’d be, but Sutton doesn’t take the bait, and says she doesn’t think Teddi is boring.

Here it comes, in 3… 2… 1…

Andy says, Brandi dropped a bombshell that was like throwing a glass of wine at Denise. I guess he couldn’t come up with anything more clever, having pandemic brain. He says, the truth is everybody and anybody’s guess, and we flash back to all the Brandi bullsh*t. I shove cookies in my mouth. My husband decides to sit down and watch for a moment, and I tell him not to talk, and expect me to yell at the TV. Denise doesn’t even flinch as we stroll down Brandi’s Memory Lane. Andy says Denise claimed she barely knows Brandi, but Brandi showed the women a year’s worth of texts. There seemed to be a deeper connection. He asks if she has an explanation, and she says for every ten texts Brandi sent, she had one response. He asks if Denise has contacted Brandi, but Denise says she never did. Brandi was an acquaintance, and Denise was always nice to her. LisaR asks why Denise didn’t call Brandi from Rome, and Denise says Brandi isn’t a friend of hers. LisaR says Denise can’t keep lying, and Denise says LisaR can’t keep playing the same card in this game. She’s not friends with Brandi. Kyle says, not now. Andy says when Denise was asked about Brandi at Bravocon, she’d said they were friendly. We see a clip of Denise saying just that, and Denise says she had no reason to say anything negative. Andy is trying to discredit this, and it’s not cool. Andy says Denise called Brandi a friend. Will someone get that man a dictionary? Being friendly toward someone and being their friend are two different things. Denise says she didn’t, and they never socialized. With the exception of Garcelle, every single one of these twats twits asks, where is Brandi? and LisaR says, this is bullsh*t. Yes, it certainly is, and she heads the bull herd.

LisaR says Denise isn’t being upfront, and runs from the truth. Garcelle says LisaR didn’t like that Denise didn’t give her a satisfactory answer. Erika asks if Denise stopped Brandi from being at the reunion, and I say, she’s not on the show. Denise says, Brandi’s not on their show, and my husband marvels at my ESP abilities. Andy says there was a meeting, and they didn’t feel Brandi had anything else to add. After Brandi said she licked bleepity-bleep-bleep, there was nowhere else to go. They’d heard enough. What more was there to add? Denise says, they don’t know about the stuff Brandi sent her; it was so inappropriate. It was harassment. Dorit says if she was in this situation, she wouldn’t want to be around Brandi, and LisaR says Denise shouldn’t have done it. Denise says, done what? and LisaR says what she did with Brandi. Dorit says she believes Denise, but the problem is Denise giving them little bits, like when she said Brandi claimed to have slept with someone in the group. We flash back to that, and Kyle says it wasn’t her. I wonder why Kyle keeps assuming it was her, and again think if it’s anyone, it’s Kim. Andy asks why Denise wouldn’t say who it was, and Denise says, it’s not just one person. Brandi said there was one in the group, but also someone on the outside, who the group knows. She’s not saying who it is, and everyone – again minus Garcelle, since she’s actually a decent human – goes, say it! say it! like they’re five. Denise says it has nothing to do with her, and she doesn’t care what people think. She doesn’t give a sh*t. Kyle says, you can’t have a friendship without honesty. Andy asks, what about Denise talking sh*t about the women? and Denise says Brandi called her after she did Teddi’s podcast, and Denise said she thought Teddi was a sh*t stirrer. She never called Erika a cold bitch, but said Erika was condescending. She brought up LisaR, and Brandi asked why Denise’s friend had turned on her, and that was pretty much all she said. Teddi brings up how, in Denise’s interview, she said she’d called Teddi way worse things. Either say it and own up to it, or lie. Denise says, likewise, and beating a dead horse until it’s dead a second time, Andy asks what’s the worst thing Denise said about Teddi? Denise repeats, that Teddi is a sh*t stirrer, and LisaR says, after Rome, she said she didn’t like Teddi. Denise says the women are vicious, and LisaR says she thinks the cover-up is worse than the crime. Like this is some kind of high espionage and not a load of nonsense.

Next time, more rubbish. The cease and desist is discussed, Denise says don’t ask her husband questions they don’t want the answers to, and Denise is asked if she’s willing to show the text messages.

🎃 After this show, I had to watch Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Medea Halloween just to cleanse my mind. I was surprised to see the dude who played Brady in Too Close to Home in a blink-and-you-miss-him part.

General Hospital

Jason tells Sam, they’re going to get through this. Sam says she knows, and loves him so much. He says he loves her more. They kiss, their theme music plays, and I feel drowsy already. He tells her to leave first; he’ll come in a couple of minutes, to be safe. Sam takes a breath, and peeks through the blinds. She turns back to Jason, mouths I love you, and goes out. Delores comes down the hallway, and says she’s glad she bumped into Sam. They have a problem. Sam says, which is? and Delores asks why she’s at the hospital. She tells Sam, be careful with her reply. Full disclosure is important in establishing her trust.

Anna says, Finn told them, didn’t he? How could he? Does he have any idea what he’s done? Who the hell does he think he is? He says he cares about her, and made a conscious decision to tell them because he cares. She says she gave him the information because she trusts and loves him, and he betrayed her. He says he did for her because he loves her.

Lulu sees Dustin at the MetroCourt, and asks if she forget they had a date. Dustin says, they don’t. His date is with someone else.

Jax ponders his kiss with Nina. He looks at his phone.

Nina tells Ava, it was one little kiss, and asks Ava to promise not to tell anyone. Ava asks if she should cross her heart, and Nina says, she’s serious. It didn’t mean anything, but Valentin will think something else. Ava asks why Nina cares what Valentin thinks. Valentin walks in, and says he’s glad he found Nina. There’s something he needs to talk to her about.

Chase comes home to find Willow dressed up. She says, ta-da! And he says she’s beautiful. She says he’s not so bad himself. She moves toward him, but he says he’s toxic, and doesn’t want to contaminate her. He questioned a suspect for nine hours before he got a confession. It was so hot in there, he was ready to confess. He can’t let her near him until he takes a shower. She says she’ll risk it, and kisses him.

Walking into the MetroCourt with Brad, Maxie says, he remembers Ellie Trout, right? She was supposed to head the lab until she had the title ripped out from under her by Brad’s underhanded dealings. She had a great job in Portland, but found an even more fabulous job as lab manager at Queen’s Point. She and Spinelli are moving back, so all’s well that ends well. He says, tell Ellie congratulations, and she says she’ll do that, and says, have a wonderful night.

Brad sits with Nelle, who says she hopes he doesn’t mind that she ordered wine. She asks, what’s the occasion? and he says he wanted to share his news with her. As soon as Lucas is well enough, they’re moving away. She says, what about Wiley? and he says, they’re taking him of course (🍷), but she says, no. That’s not happening.

Chase toasts to staying in, his favorite kind of date. Willow says, he’s been working non-stop; he must be exhausted. He says, what’s exhausting is working this hard and not getting anywhere. But he’s given it sixteen hours today, and that’s more than enough. He wants to talk about literally anything else. Something happy. She says she’s got happy news. Lucas asked her to come back as Wiley’s nanny.

Brad tells Nelle, the doctors expect a full recovery. Lucas’s family is smothering, and the best thing for their family is to move away from Port Charles. A fresh start. She asks where they’re planning on going, and he says he heard about a job opening in Portland.

Lulu asks Dustin why he’s meeting Jax, and he says Jax asked to see him. He thought he’d fortify himself first. She says he doesn’t have to; he’s a hero. She can stay and wait, and they can have a date when he’s done. He says there’s nothing he’d like more. He leaves, and Lulu sees Maxie sitting with Peter. She goes over to their table, and Maxie asks how Laura is doing. Lulu says she’s making an amazing recovery, and Maxie says she saw hot Dustin leaving. Tell her everything. Peter wonders if he should be in on this conversation, and Lulu tells him, if he wants her to write about Dustin’s heroics during the shooting on the pier, she can’t be impartial. She sits down, and says they just took a big step in their relationship.

Jax looks at Nina’s number on his phone, when Dustin appears. Dustin asks if he’s too early, but Jax says, come in. Dustin assumes this is about Josslyn, and Jax thanks him again. Josslyn could have been seriously injured, or worse. Dustin says he did what anyone would have, and Jax says he’s profoundly grateful. He hands Dustin a check.

Nina says she wishes Valentin hadn’t come back there, and Ava asks if he’s stalking Nina. He says he got the test results back. It turns out the codicil is right; he’s not a Cassadine. Ava says, her husband will be pleased, even though he had no doubts. Nina asks Ava to give them some privacy, and Ava says if it’s what she really wants. She tells Nina, give her a shout if she’s needed. She goes in the back, and Nina says she knows Valentin wasn’t expecting this. He says he doesn’t know who he is anymore.

Finn says he loves Anna, and from time to time, feels the need to protect her. She says she doesn’t need protection, but he says she’s blind to Peter. He’s a murderer. She says, he stopped an assassin from killing Andre, and he says, maybe, but the assassin was also on Peter’s payroll. She says he doesn’t know that for sure, but he says she’s lying to herself. Peter kept Jason prisoner for years. Based on that alone, she should know the truth. She says he just gave Jason the ammunition to kill Peter, but Finn says, Jason gave his word that he’d hand the case over to the Feds. Something she should have done.

Delores says she went by Sam’s house for a surprise check. Sam says she had no right, but Delores says she has every right. She was told Sam was at the hospital, but they didn’t know why. She says someone was watching her kids, she’s sick, and didn’t want to alarm them. Delores says Sam looks healthy, and Sam says, Delores became a medical expert when? Delores says Sam came out of the examining room just now, so the doctor must still be in there. She’ll see if Sam’s story check out. Jason listens at the door.

Nina tells Valentin that she’s sorry. He says he always knew who he was with her. He’s the man who loves her; it’s all he has left. She says, he’s Charlotte’s father; that’s all Charlotte ever wanted. He says, Nikolas has his victory, and Jax too. She says he never gives up. He should take this and turn it to his advantage. He’s free from the Cassadines. His life is his own. He says that’s kind of her, and asks if that’s all they have left. She asks what else he wants from her; they’re over. He says Ava can come out, and leaves. Ava asks Nina if Valentin overheard them talking about Jax, but Nina’s not sure. Ava says Nina didn’t tell him. Why not?

Dustin tells Jax that he can’t accept the check, but Jax tells him to see who it’s made out to. Dustin reads, the Port Charles Educational Fund, and Jax says, so the teachers don’t have to use their own money to buy supplies. Dustin supposes he should stop assuming before he reads the document; something he teaches his students. Jax says he would also like to know how Josslyn is actually doing. Outside the door, Josslyn listens in.

Sam tells Delores, she’s read her parole restrictions. Nowhere in them does it say Delores can check up on her doctor’s appointments. Delores says the conditions provide that she can check up on Sam at home or anywhere else. Epiphany walks up to them, and asks if she can help Delores. Delores should be afraid. Very afraid. Even Jason is afraid of Epiphany.

Anna says Finn can’t be so naïve that he thinks Jason will back off and let the authorities handle it. Finn says, Jason went straight to Robert, and she says, who was also told to back off. What does he think Jason is going to do, now that Peter won’t be investigated? He says, which she prevented, and she says, he’ll take a flimsy link and run with it. It’s circumstantial at best. Finn says Peter and David Black worked at Faison’s company for years; it’s not circumstantial. She says he has no idea if their paths crossed. They don’t know if Peter and David met or worked with each other. He asks, if she’s so sure why didn’t she get rid of the evidence. He finds it on her desk, and suggests they get rid of all her fears. Does she want him to do it for her? He holds the papers over the flame in the fireplace, but she says nothing. He says she can’t do that, because she knows in the deepest part of her heart, Peter is guilty.

Willow tells Chase, with everything going on, Lucas thinks it’s too much for Brad to handle, and asked her to help. Chase asks if she’s sure she wants to get involved. Brad is super stressed, and not handling it well. He might take it out on her. She says she can handle it. She knows they love Wiley, but sometimes Wiley takes second place, especially with everything going on. He says she’s being super loving and generous, and she knows he’ll support her 100%. She says, it sounds like he doesn’t think it’s a good idea, and he says he thinks it is for Wiley. He’s not sure about her.

Nelle says Brad wouldn’t move because he thinks Lucas’s family is smothering. Where is this coming from? Brad says, Lucas is at Turning Woods, and hired Willow back as nanny. Nelle says, so he wants to move across the county to avoid Willow. It seems extreme. He says, Lucas might remember, and she says, remember what? He has nothing to remember, does he? Brad says, before the accident, he told Lucas truth about Wiley.

Maxie tells Lulu, she and Dustin have taken an enormous step, staying home and watching a movie. It’s shocking. Peter says, barely, and Lulu says, they’re funny, but when she and Dustin go out, something always happens. They need normal time. Peter says he wouldn’t mind having normal time. Lulu says she’ll give them some privacy, but Maxie says, he’s talking about Spinelli. Peter says, he’s moving back permanently, and Lulu says, that’s great. Isn’t it?  

Delores asks Epiphany who she is, and Epiphany introduces herself as head nurse. Delores says she’s Sam’s parole officer, and Epiphany asks what her business is there. Delores says she’s checking up on Sam, and Epiphany says she appreciates a fellow professional doing a thorough job. But she doesn’t appreciate anyone interfering with proper medical care, She was with Sam when the doctor examined her, and there are strict privacy protections in place – as Delores knows. Is there anything else she can help Delores with? Delores says, no thank you, and tells Sam she’ll be seeing her again soon, and leaves.

Anna says she believes Finn proved nothing. He wonders, if it’s nothing, why she didn’t leave it in the file? The Feds will find the link, and track Peter’s movements afterwards. She says, it’s not a smoking gun, and he says she broke the law by withholding evidence. That’s all the evidence he needs to prove Peter is guilty. Despite the evidence to the contrary, she believes Peter. She says, no one else will give him the benefit of the doubt. Not even Finn, the man she loves.

In his hotel room, Valentin toasts to himself – Valentin Mikkosovich Cassadine, prince of nothing.

Ava tells Nina, she didn’t like the look on Valentin’s face; too cold and calculating. Either he overheard something, or Nina gave it away. Nina says Valentin has been jealous of Jax ever since she stayed at Jax’s beach house. Ava says she can’t believe Nina left Valentin at the altar, and ran off with Jax. Nina says, it wasn’t intentional. Jax was outside the church. Ava doesn’t think Valentin sees it that way. He needed to confirm Nina has moved on, and now he has all the confirmation he needs. If Nina didn’t tell him, he figured it out by looking at her. She wonders what Valentin’s next move will be, and Nina says, he’s going to kill Jax.

Valentin opens a safe in his hotel room, and takes out a gun. He puts it in his waistband, and leaves.

Dustin says Josslyn has been more quiet than usual, but it’s understandable given what she’s been through. Jax said he heard Dustin encouraged her to keep a journal. Dustin says, it wasn’t an assignment, but he suggested it. Jax says, it’s been working, and Dustin hopes she’s writing about the shooting. Jax says Dustin seems to know how to handle Josslyn. She respects him, and talks about him all the time. He’d like Dustin to keep an eye on her for him. Outside the door, Josslyn has been listening, and Valentin strides past her and into the office. Josslyn says, wait, but he keeps moving. Jax asks what he wants, and Valentin says, just this. He shoots Jax, and Josslyn yells, no!

Jax looks down, and sees he’s bleeding. He slumps to the floor, and Josslyn runs to him, saying, dad, no! Dustin calls for the paramedics. Nina arrives, and asks what Valentin did. She runs to Jax, and asks if he can hear her. She tells Valentin that he’ll never see her or Charlotte again. They’re going to hate him for the rest of their lives.

Back in the real world, Jax asks Valentin what he wants. Valentin says he got his DNA results back. He’s not a Cassadine after all. Congratulations. He walks out, and Josslyn steps in, saying, wow. That was weird. Jax says, and not unexpected. They were just talking about her. Why is she here?

Nina tells Ava, she’s wrong. Valentin wouldn’t kill Jax. Ava asks, why not? Valentin tried to kill her, and he thought he had killed Nikolas. Nina says, Valentin can’t expect to get away with being charged for murder. Lulu will get full custody of Charlotte. Ava says, true; good point. She knows Valentin always puts his own best interests first, which in this case, is good news. That leaves Nina free to pursue a relationship with Jax.

Finn says Anna is choosing to believe Peter, but don’t lose sight of the fact Peter is a killer. He could be responsible for Andre being stabbed and Drew’s plane going down. She says, Peter wants to be a good man. He wants to step out of his father’s shadow, and overcome the circumstances of his upbringing. He says, which she feels responsible for, even though Alex could be his mother. She says she feesl like his mother, and the way Finn wants to protect Violet, she wants to protect Peter. She has faith that he can make the world a better place for Maxie, and be the father James needs. She cries, and says she’s never going to let Peter’s fate be put in someone else’s hands. She’s been given a second chance. Can’t he see that? And she’s going to take that chance. He says he sees it, and walks upstairs.

Sam thanks Epiphany, who suggests they finish their conversation in the examining room. Epiphany tries the door, but it’s locked. She says, Mr. Morgan, if there’s a broken lock, there will be hell to pay. It opens, and Epiphany tells Jason, you’re welcome.

On the phone, Valentin tells Charlotte that he misses her too. Did she go riding? He hopes he can come riding with her soon, but he’s a little busy right now. He says, no trouble. Nothing daddy can’t fix. He tells her, sweet dreams, and says he loves her. He hangs up, and closes his eyes.

Nina tells Ava, it was one little kiss, and Jax was clear that it wasn’t a good idea to move forward. There’s nothing to pursue. Ava asks, who is she? Since when has she let any man make a decision for her? She tells Nina, live a little; she’s earned it. Nina says, even if Jax reconsidered – and that’s a big if – Valentin has lost everything. It’s no time to prove she’s moved on with anyone. She assumes Ava votes for Jax, and Ava says Jax isn’t her cup of tea, but she doesn’t see anyone else waiting in the wings.

Dustin thanks Jax, saying his contribution is extremely generous. He leaves, and Jax says Josslyn knew they were meeting. Was she spying on them? Josslyn says she wanted to make sure he didn’t say anything embarrassing. He wonders if asking how she’s doing is embarrassing, and she says she’s fine. She doesn’t want any special attention. He asks if she’d rather he didn’t care what goes on in her life, and she says, no, but asks him to promise not to overdo it. He asks if he was, and she says, no, and hugs him. She thanks him, and he says, anytime.

Peter tells Lulu, Maxie loves Spinelli. Nothing is going to change that. Maxie says she hates that Spinelli keeps asking the same questions. He keeps trying to catch Peter in a lie, but she doubts there’s anything she can do about it. Peter says Spinelli has a right to question his past. Maxie says Peter doesn’t deserve it. He says he can handle anyone who doubts it.

Finn and Violet come downstairs, dressed to go outside. Finn is carrying a suitcase, and Violet tells Anna that her daddy says they’re going on an adventure. Finn suggests Violet check to see if stuffed pig Bella is hiding in the kitchen. Violet runs off, and Finn tells Anna, she said she wouldn’t leave without Bella. She says she thought he said he understood, and he says he does. But he hopes she understands that he needs to protect his daughter. She asks if they’re coming back, but he doesn’t know. They can’t be there right now. Violet comes back with Bella, and says she wishes Anna could come. Anna says she does too, but she and her daddy will have a wonderful adventure. She’ll miss the both of them. Violet says she’ll miss Anna too, and Finn says, let’s go. He walks out with Violet, barely glancing back. When they’re gone, Anna cries.

Chase tells Willow, legally, Wiley is Brad and Lucas’s son, but that’s not what’s in her heart. She says she loves her own son, and he says, how could she not? But he’s afraid the more time she spends caring for Wiley, the harder it will be to maintain legal boundaries. She says she asked herself the same question, and he’s right. Signing the adoption papers didn’t change what’s in her heart. She loves Wiley, and wants what’s best for him, and right now, he needs help. She’ll take care of Wiley as long as she’s needed. Then she’ll stop. He asks if she’s sure she can do that.

Nelle says, Brad told Lucas the truth about Wiley? How big an idiot is he? Does he want to lose Wiley? Brad says he was losing his mind keeping the secret. He couldn’t think straight. Nelle asks if Lucas has no memory of it, and Brad said he started to, but can’t get ahold of it. Nelle says, he thinks if he stays in Port Charles, Lucas will see her and Michael around and it will come back? He says, like a ton of bricks. She gave Wiley to them so Michael would never get his hands on Wiley. Nelle says, Lucas can remember just as easily in Portland. What is he going to do to make sure doesn’t happen?

Dustin meets Lulu, and she says he survived his meeting with Jax. He says, it went well. Josslyn stops by, and says she’s sorry she interrupted, and thanks him for being great with her dad. She apologizes for the weirdness. Dustin tells Lulu, Valentin walked in, and announced he’s not a Cassadine.

Maxie tells Peter, she knows Spinelli is a bit much. When he gets to know Peter, he’ll see there’s nothing to worry about. He says, all that matters is she knows. Finn and Violet come in, and Peter asks if Violet is ready for another game of Captain Marvel. She says she is, and tells him, daddy said they’re going on an adventure. Maxie says, cool, and asks, what kind? Finn says they’re staying there for tonight. Violet wanted to get a sundae before they head out. Finn and Violet move on, and Maxie wonders if Finn and Anna broke up. She asks what Peter thinks that was about.

Anna looks at the papers she withheld, and cries some more.

Sam thanks Epiphany, and Epiphany says, nobody backs her people into a corner. Not on her turf. Jason thanks her, and she says she’s happy to help – to a point. Rules are rules, no matter how unfair they are. Sam is a mother out on parole, and her first duty is to her children. Don’t do anything to get separated from them. She tells Jason that he needs to help Sam. If she suggests they meet somewhere they could get caught, don’t show up. Next time, she might not be there to save them. She leaves, and Jason says, she’s right. Sam says she hates this. She can’t accept this is their life for the next two years. She’s going to try and win Delores over; convince her that Jason isn’t a threat. Jason says, okay, but what if it doesn’t work? Sam says, then she’ll find a way to silence Delores.

Willow tells Chase, when the time comes, she’ll step back, reset, and reestablish boundaries. She has faith she can do this. He says he has faith in her. There’s nothing she can’t do once she sets her mind to it. She asks if she’s told him how incredible she thinks he is. He says, not enough, and she kisses him. She asks if that helped, and he kisses her, and says, it’s getting there.

Brad tells Nelle, maybe Lucas will remember; maybe he won’t. But it’s better than staying. She asks if he wants her blessing, and he tells her, do what she wants. He has arrangements to make. He leaves, and Nelle makes a call.

Valentin’s phone rings, but he’s busy drinking. He sits down with a wooden box, and looks at his tattoo of the Cassadine crest.

Nelle leaves a message for Valentin, saying she spoke to Martin. She’s ready to sell her ELQ shares. She needs to make a deal now, because she has travel plans to make.

Nina throws a folder on Jax’s desk, and says, it’s all his fault.

Valentin opens the box, and takes out the ring matching his tattoo. He says he never had use for this thing. He never even bothered to put it on. It was never his to begin with. He looks up to find someone standing there, and says, tell me how you did it, Helena.

Tomorrow, Brad tells Lucas that he can’t believe they’re doing this, Nelle tells Willow and Chase that Brad and Lucas are moving, and Valentin asks Helena how she pulled it off. Because Helena will never really die as long as Constance Towers lives.

👗 On Project Runway, Brittany was relieved she’d been brought back, the Siriano Save giving her redemption. This week’s challenge showcased tie-dye, which I love. Nancy said she’d grown up in the 60s, during the hippie revolution, but this concept was about erasing old ideas. The designers were to take tie-dye from dated and casual, to fresh and fashionable. Nina said tie-dye was having a moment, and was wearing a gorgeous Prada tie-dyed dress. She told them to elevate tie-dye to a runway chic look. They would be doing the dying themselves, after taking a master class taught by professionals from Metro Dying. The challenge was one day – and night. They’d be having a sleepover. Delvin said he wasn’t sleeping in the workroom, after which we saw clips of him sleeping just about everywhere. Since Marquise was last week’s winner, he got first choice of model. There was also no more immunity. While I love tie-dyed garments, I’m only crafty in my mind, so it was impressive watching masters of the craft creating five different kinds of patterns. In his interview, Geoffrey said he was ready to die. He thought tie-dye was for pot smoking in the park with friends. I wondered what he was smoking. Brittany noticed she was the only one taking notes. In her interview, she joked about sabotage, but said other designers had helped her along the way, so she’d return the favor when the time came. The ever-humble Victoria said she was a professional already. Sergio did have some previous knowledge, saying cotton would look dull and dated, and satin takes the dye better. While the other designers practiced the technique, Nancy used the time to pin her garment, as she’d done tie-dye before.

Right away, Delvin and Geoffrey started asking Brittany questions, She said she was more than willing to help, but they should have taken notes. Victoria wanted to focus on showing the judges something different, and change her strategy. The designers got $175 and 30 minutes at Mood, to get supplemental fabrics and notions. I love notions. They were told to make sure tie dye was the focus. A Boston bull named Swatch was hanging out in the store. Now I’m really going to have to check this place out.

Sergio patted himself on the back for taking on difficult topics. He had a video chat with his partner, who said they’d change the world. Christian said the workroom looked like a laboratory of color. Nancy said she’d had experience with tie-dye when she was in fashion school. She worked with refugee women, teaching them to make scarves and ice dye them (a variation on tie-dyeing). She was scaring Christian, who was concerned about how much time she was going to have.

Christian said they needed to erase the old idea of tie-dyeing, and make it fresh and exciting. Geoffrey said there was a lot of military inspiration in his fashion, having grown up a military brat. Christian suggested Geoffrey’s pattern could be the new camo. Brittany felt a lot of pressure, and Geoffrey thought Delvin was playing it safe by doing something the judges had seen before. He never wanted to make the same thing twice during the competition.

There was a midnight model fitting, and Geoffrey said everyone’s stuff was a mess, and the workroom was a disaster. Delvin realized the dye didn’t take on his cotton twill, and it looked faded. Christian announced that Leslie Jones was  going to be guest judge. She cracks me up, especially on Twitter. Brittany said she was surprised that Delvin and Victoria used cotton, since it needs to sit for hours; time they didn’t have. Delvin asked what would happen if it wasn’t rinsed, and Brittany told him, the colors would bleed. Then it was onesie time, which only Brittany, Delvin, and Marquise participated in. Delvin said, not everyone was up for fun. Marquise enhanced his onesie with a ruffled collar. Nancy said she was going to do pastels, but had learned to go with her gut, and went with a green/yellow color combo. Delvin, who was surprisingly full of good humor, decided to start over rather than use the faded colors. Geoffrey said it was the worst challenge of all of them for him. He asked Brittany what hers was, and she just looked at him.

Victoria got a nasty surprise when she found that her pleating technique had disappeared, and the fabric was all green. Sergio gave her extra fabric, and in his interview, said he thought Victoria would be in the final four, but she’d been struggling with the last few challenges. In Victoria’s interview, she said the most she was worried about was everything. Geoffrey’s green came out black, and he freaked out. Nancy thought it still had potential, but he didn’t want to listen. Pizza arrived at around 5 am, and in her interview, Nancy said they were all feeling a sense of fun, because they were all feeling the pain together. It was a night to remember. Geoffrey said he’d had a meltdown, but the fabric just needed to be dried. The black had lightened to a dark OD green, with ochre sunbursts. At this point, he was being fueled by Red Bull. Victoria’s second try was fabulous, and I was disappointed. Sorry. I just don’t like her. On the other hand, I was starting to like Delvin, who was the most fun he’s ever been. In Nancy’s interview, at 6 am, she said she was starting to question why she didn’t start earlier.

Geoffrey said, seeing the sun come up was tiring, especially when he knew there was a long runway ahead. Christian came in wearing a very cool T-shirt, tie-dyed in an American flag pattern. Another one of my favorites, flag shirts. He revealed this would also be a flash sale challenge, since tie-dye was meant for the people. Sergio said he was presenting no political message this time; the judges would have to go by the outfit. Which is what I thought was the idea, and pretty much what they told him. Christian felt Delvin’s dress needed something more, and told him, it was good to be clean, but not boring. Delvin agreed it was too simple. Nancy and Christian bantered, and in her interview, Nancy said her father had same sarcasm Christian does. She wondered if her father had been preparing her for this moment her entire life, so she could deal with Christian. Nancy went with a two-piece pant ensemble that was very cute. While some were clearly better, I thought everyone’s designs were excellent.

When Nancy’s outfit came out first, Leslie was liking the flowing pants, calling them capezio. Elaine corrected her with palazzo. Leslie gave a shout out to Sergio’s sleeveless number, saying it deserved to be twirled. I’m not sure what Victoria was thinking with a tie-dyed, puffy sleeved top and a shorts-over-pants combo, splattered in spots. Victoria thought it looked like she worked drunk, and I wondered if Little Edie Beale helped her. Delvin was worried his dress wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t. Brittany thought she’d done well with her comeback look, and was happy with her redemption garment. Anything would have been better than those shorts last week. When Geoffrey’s gown came down the runway, Leslie told the model, take it off; it’s hers. She kept making the models laugh, and when the runway was finished, she said she loved tie-dye, but a couple of ties died. Whatever that means.

Brittany and Marquise, both with cute dresses, were safe, and they were thrilled with that. Nina said Sergio’s look was stately and elevated, Brandon called it chic, and Leslie said it looked as though the fabric Sergio had created was something he’d purchased; it was that professional. She thought Geoffrey’s gown – with a plunging neckline, hip high slit, and orange accents – was a tall glass of sexy Pam Grier. Karlie thought it was a refined silhouette, and looked effortless. They moved on to Nancy, who said she was a child of the 60s, and the judges deemed it updated, chic, and elevated. Backstage, Brittany marveled that, this morning, she didn’t even have top. Nina said her tie-dye technique was impressive; balanced and controlled. She reinvented her pant to make the movement romantic and poetic. When the focus went to Victoria, she immediately said she wasn’t crazy about tie-dye, but that wasn’t an excuse. Brandon said it looked like denim diaper shorts over pants, and Nina called it a mess. Brandon said he understood where she was going, but she didn’t succeed. At least she took the risk. I thought, so did Elaine, noticing she was wearing what looked like a faux llama rug, either as a long skirt or pants. Leslie thought Delvin’s colors made the dress look like a cheap church dress, and Karlie said it was everything she didn’t want to see. Delvin said it started as a coat dress, and Elaine said it was dated, and it wasn’t the first time that was in one of their critiques. Nina said it was a mess, and when in doubt, turn up the dial. Brandon said both Delvin and Victoria tripped up.

While the designers waited backstage, the top three – Sergio, Geoffrey, and Nancy – were discussed. They agreed Nancy’s creation was beautiful, and her tie-dye technique was flawless, but it wasn’t anything they hadn’t seen before. Everyone marveled at how the skirt on Sergio’s dress looked like a lemon wedge when the model pulled it out. Nina thought Geoffrey’s gown had versatility; everyone could wear it. Moving on to the bottom two – Delvin and Victoria – Brandon said Delvin wanted to prove he was a great craftsman, and got hung up on that, forgetting what he was supposed to show them. Leslie said the buttons on the front of his dress belonged on a cartoon dog inspector’s coat. Nina said it was too safe. Nina said Victoria’s outfit was a hot mess. It was like a lava lamp exploded. Elaine said she wrote one word – why?  Leslie thought Victoria must have decided the jeans alone weren’t enough, and panicked. It was time for them to decide who the final four would be, who would do collections. I prayed Victoria would go home, but needless to say, I was thrilled my underdog Nancy was in the final four.

The judges told the top three that they proved tie-dye could be taken to the next level, and they all created beautiful runway looks. Nancy was released from the stage first, and Geoffrey was the winner. Leslie told him that his gown was perfection, and would look beautiful on all types of women. Geoffrey said it was the hardest challenge yet, but this made the hours of no sleep worth it. In his interview, he said he felt better with every challenged, and thought he was being recognized. He was so close, he could taste it.

Karlie said Delvin and Victoria made numerous mistakes. Delvin’s dress was neither elevated nor chic, and had no direction. They were baffled by Victoria’s top and jeans, and said her tie-dye was a technical mess. Delvin was out, and I was in shock. Brandon said it ultimately came down to the ideas. He told Delvin that he’d shown beautiful craftsmanship, and they’d be seeing him. He said he was glad he’d started there, and valued their critiques. He wasn’t going to let fear hold him back. Karlie thanked him for bringing elegance to the runway. In his closing interview, Delvin said he chose not to take the risk of not being liked or accepted, and regretted playing it safe. It wasn’t a reflection of him or his design skills. Christian told Delvin that he was one of the most brilliant tailors, and he thought every dream of Delvin’s would come true. Delvin said his biggest challenge was putting his confidence behind his designs, but giving up wasn’t in his blood. They’ll see him in Paris one day.

Next time, the designers have to create looks for Special Olympics and Paralympics athletes.
