What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Again I was a little late, but listening.

Carly finds Jax in the living room with a surfboard. He says he can explain, and she says, start talking.

Doc tells Laura that Ryan’s coma is considered an unintended consequence of surgery, but it’s okay with him if Ryan never wakes up.

Every model in the world is booked for September, and Maxie suggests Ava for the Crimson cover.

At Charlie’s, Franco tells Ava that the universe has a way of working things out. Something good came out of something rotten. Ryan is in a coma, and when he wakes up, he’ll be down a kidney and going to Pentonville, a fate worse than death. She says she keeps hearing Ryan taunting her, and Franco says, the best thing to do with a guy like Ryan is to forget him. He thought he was smart, and eight steps ahead of everyone, but he was wrong. He lost, and they won.

TJ tells Stella and Curtis that everything is going great with Jordan. Curtis sees Elizabeth holding the DNR, and asks why she has that. He thought it was a routine surgery. Finn says, it is, but so is a DNR. Any ime anesthetic is involved, it’s a matter of practice that the patient is given that option. Stella says there’s always an off-chance, and Jordan wanted to be safe. TJ says it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t save her, but if she was in a vegetative state, she didn’t want them leaving her there. Which they would.

Laura thanks Doc for telling her the truth. Doc asks if she isn’t disappointed, and she says, no. She’s not sure it’s what she would have done, but she sees why he did. He saved a life, and she can’t find fault in that. She loves him. He thanks her, and says he loves her too. She asks how he feels, and he says, fine. He thought he’d feel guilty, but his brother would never voluntarily give up a kidney. Jordan is alive, and will be with them a long time, and it’s hard to find fault with that. He didn’t bow to the tyranny of Ryan; the illusion he could save him that stems from childhood. Laura says, survivor guilt. Doc is the kid who got away. Doc says he finally realized he has no control and no power over who got hurt. This experience finally gave him the knowledge that he had no more control than Ryan, and had no more choices than he did. He only has a choice as an adult, and as an adult, he chose to maintain his brother.

Jax thinks it will be great for Josslyn to catch a wave. It’s fun and she’ll connect with nature. It will be good for her. Carly says they don’t want to push her, and he says he knows she needs time to cry and process everything, but she also needs to live in the moment, and know, whatever happens, life is still beautiful. He thinks it will help her. Carly tells him, if he says so. He says she’s only resistant because she never wanted to learn. She says she’s a Florida girl, and loves everything about the beach. She just had no desire to surf because her body is her board. He says she just doesn’t want be bad at something. She says it’s true she doesn’t want to look like an idiot falling off, but she’s happy Josslyn learned before she knew what she was doing. He says, Josslyn can’t remember a time when she didn’t surf, and Carly says, thanks to him. She tells Jax that she’s so scared for Josslyn. She’s so young, and this is so huge. Jax sits next to her, and takes her hand. He says she’ll be more than okay. She has them to hold her up.

Carly gives Jax something to drink, and he says he doesn’t know whether to wait there or track her down. Carly says she struggles with that all the time. He asks what side she leans on, and Carly suggests he put the surfboard in Josslyn’s room, and let her find it then. Then, on Saturday, he can call and say, hey, let’s go surfing. Jax’s phone dings, and he says, that was quick. The budget for Crimson is in. Carly says, what? He says he told her that he was going to find something to keep him busy while he was in town. He bought half of Aurora Media; the print division. She says, awesome, but he says she sounds thrown. She thinks it’s a perfect fit, and it’s great he’ll be in the MetroCourt offices. He says, but…? She asks if Drew knows much about him. He asks if she’s implying he’s hard to work with. He admits he likes things to go his way, and is actually a bit of a control freak, but he and Drew have an agreement. While Crimson is still under the umbrella of Aurora, the divisions are completely separate. Carly says, neighbors, but not collaborators, and congratulates him.

Nina tells Maxie that she’s out of her mind, and Sasha says that’s the only explanation. Maxie says she knew it would be a hard sell. Sasha says she’s living proof that Ava is a complete psychopath. Maxie says, tell her why, and Sasha says this horrible woman comes out of nowhere, chats her up, and makes it clear Kiki and Griff weren’t serious. Friends with benefits, she said.  Of course (🍷) she flirted, and Kiki was offended, as she should be. Not only were she and Griff dating, they were exclusive. Kiki kicked her out, and it turns out Ava is a complete whack-job who set her up. Sasha decided to just get on with her life. She ordered room service, and woke up drugged, without clothes, next to Griff in bed. Nina says, sounds like a magazine cover to her. Sasha says the only reason she didn’t press charges was that Kiki and Griff wanted to handle it on their own. Maxie says, it’s Nina’s turn.

Ava asks Franco if now is the time to pick herself up, dust herself off, and start the next chapter. Franco says, a million yups. Ava says she slept with her daughter’s murderer. It’s not easy to move on from that. Franco says if there’s a poster boy for second chances, she’s looking a him. What does he have to thank for that? She says, a brain tumor? He says, after ten minutes, people move on to the next wave of hysteria. Ryan’s had his ten minutes, and he’s done. Hers has just started. There will always be people in the world who will look sideways at people like them, but she can have a great life, which is the best revenge.

Laura tells Doc, it sounds like a breakthrough. Fantastic. He says he still has a lot of work to do. He thinks it will be easier when Ryan is moved to Pentonville. He’s not going to visit Ryan, and is cutting off all contact. He’s truly, finally letting him go. Laura can’t tell him how happy she is. She knows it’s not easy. Doc says, whatever horrible circumstances led Ryan to this, he chose it, and embraced it, and these are the consequences of his actions. At least his life isn’t a total loss. He saved Jordan. Laura says. that counts for something.

Stella tells Curtis that Jordan wanted to cover every possibility and eventuality, but her chances are better than excellent that it won’t be needed. But just in case, those are Jordan’s wishes. Jordan said Stella needed to make that clear, but it’s not something they need to worry about, Curtis doesn’t get it. It’s a straightforward surgery; it seems unnecessary. TJ says, it feels endless. First, the car accident. then they thought Jordan was in the clear, and the bottom falls out again with her kidney. Now they feel like they almost made it, and it’s something new, but he’s come far enough in his training to know when they say standard procedure, it is. There are no guarantees but odds are hugely in his mom’s favor. They couldn’t say that before, but they can now. If even a minute of worry was taken away from her, it’s a good thing. They want every worry taken off, so Jordan’s mind focuses on staying strong. Curtis says, not that he had any doubts, but TJ is going to make one helluva doctor.

Finn and Elizabeth approach them. Curtis says he takes it that their smiles mean it’s good. Finn says, the operation was a success. Elizabeth tells them, Jordan is in recovery right now. Curtis, Stella, and TJ group hug.

Jax tells Carly that the surfboard is on Josslyn’s desk. She asks if Josslyn is aware of his plans to stay being official. He says he was telling her this weekend. Carly says, she’ll be happy. She’s happy he’s staying, but it’s one thing for him and Sonny to be in the same town for an extended period. It’s another for him to stay permanently. They’ll be spending a lot of time together, and she’s hoping they keep the spirit of mutual cooperation. Her plea for peace over. He says, if they want coexist, they will. He asks her to call when Josslyn finds the surfboard.

Nina tells Maxie that she’s not doing this. Maxie says it will be cathartic, and Nina says Ava is not going to be on the cover. Maxie asks Nina to humor. Nina thinks it’s a waste of time, but she will. Nina says she got married young to Silas, and her mother hired Ava to seduce him. They had an affair, and when Nina had her psychotic break, she gave Ava a drug to induce labor. She’s not proud of that, but learned sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to reinvent yourself. She regrets her actions, but it’s not like she’s feeling bad for Ava. She’s a grasping, poisonous bitch. Why would Nina put her on the cover? Maxie says, because she’s a grasping, poisonous bitch, and that’s what sells.

Franco asks Ava, what’s going on with the gallery? Does she have any plans for the next exhibit. Ava says, no, and he asks if she’s heard from any artists. She says, there are a few she has to call back. He suggests she get the next young visionary on her walls. She says she’s also heard from a few collectors, and he says he’s not surprised. She has reputation to uphold, and needs to uphold it. She asks why he cares, and he says she knows why. She’s had enough taken from her by Ryan. Don’t let him take anything else.

Laura knows that Doc said he’s letting it go, and putting it behind him, and she believes that, but she sees a flicker of conflict when he looks at Ryan, like a lingering what if? He says he’s working on it, and she says she knows he’ll defeat it. Maybe this will help. She knows what happened to Ryan is tragic, but it happened to a lot of other children, and they didn’t grow up to be serial killers. Look around. There are a lot of people who suffered trauma, and go on with life. A life that’s full and productive, and they even raise their own families. Doc says, it happens, and she says she thinks it happens a lot. Abuse can explain why someone becomes twisted, but it doesn’t excuse it. Not for anybody. Not for Ryan. Doc looks in the window of Ryan’s room.

Elizabeth tells Jordan that she did great. She wants to make sure Jordan’s pain is under control, and places the button in her hand.

Curtis asks Finn when he can see Jordan, and Finn says as soon as Elizabeth is done. Elizabeth comes out, and Curtis puts a gown on and goes in. I wonder why no gloves, especially when he touches her hand. She opens her eyes, and he says she’s back.

Nina tells Maxie that they’re not going to get new subscribers with one cover. Maxie says, if they do it right, it might push the subscriptions up, and they can charge double for ad revenue. Sasha’s phone dings, and she says Michael wants to meet her. Nina says, go. She and Maxie can take care of it. Sasha leaves, and Nina says she didn’t want to say this in front of her. She doesn’t want Sasha to see this part of her, but she hates Ava more than God hates sin. She’s not lowering herself by exploiting Kiki’s death. Maxie says they’ll keep the focus on Ava. Let her tell as much or as little as she wants to about Kiki. Nina think they’d be protecting Ava by letting her play the sad, grieving mother. She made Kiki’s life miserable. She’s not doing it. She’d rather bankrupt the magazine than put Ava’s face on the cover. Macie says, then she’s letting Ava win.

Carly goes to her doctor’s appointment, and says she thinks she has a future athlete on her hands. She wonders if the MASFP test is just a glorified blood test, and if it’s necessary. Is it better to go through the anxiety that comes along with it, or trust the CVS test? She feels they’re just screening for things because they can. The doctor says, it’s a balancing act between necessary and overboard, but with Carly’s history, she’s in favor of checking all the boxes. Carly says, okay. Better safe than sorry. Let’s do it.

Michael hopes he didn’t take Sasha away from anything important. Sasha says when Nina hears it’s him, she literally says, go; fly like the wind. She says his text was cryptic; how do you feel about small planes? She says she’s fine with them. He says it’s an eight seater. He’d like to take her with him to Martha’s Vineyard.

TJ and Stella look at in on Jordan. TJ walks away, and leans against the wall. Stella tells him that she’s proud of him and how he handled this. He’s had to be a grown up and a doctor, and is probably just as scared as they are. He says she always thinks he’s perfect. She says she doesn’t lie. They all believe in him. He says it gives him the confidence to keep going, and thanks her. Having a strong kickass woman on his side matters. They hug.

Jordan tells Curtis that she already feels better. He says, this nightmare finally over, and kisses her hand.

Nina tells Maxie, Ava will think of herself as a hero. Maxie says, Ava always considers herself the hero of her own story. Nina says, she’s a shallow, despicable, vain human being, and Maxie says their readers aren’t stupid. They’ll see her for who she is. And Nina gets to make money off of her, using her by playing to her weakness. Nina says, vanity. Jax walks in, but Nina says she can’t talk. She needs to track down Ava.

Michael is concerned that he’s freaked Sasha out. They just started whatever it is they’re doing, and he’s asking her to go away with him. Sasha says she’s looking at him like this because Martha’s Vineyard is her favorite place on earth. She’s just surprised. Michael says he’s meeting with a venture capitalist, who asked him to stay at his place for a few days. He thought it would be fun to go together. She says, it sounds incredible. She’s in 100%. She tells him that she’s excited, and he says, him too.

Franco looks in on Ryan. He asks Laura how the patient is, and she says, next stop, Pentonville. He says, home, sweet home. Elizabeth tells them that Jordan is awake, and swears she already feels better. Doc says they pulled it off, and Franco says, they did. Laura says, technically, Ryan did. With the stroke of a pen. Doc looks at Franco. A lightbulb goes on over my head.

TJ calls Jordan a rock star. She thanks them, and Stella says, it’s time to celebrate. TJ tells Jordan that the documentary on snowy owl migration is coming out next month at a select few theaters. Jordan says TJ was looking forward to it, and Curtis says he’s glad she made it. There’s no way he was going. Stella wants TJ to help her go shopping. The food there leaves something to be desired, and she wants to make something tasty for Jordan’s first meal. Jordan says she doesn’t have to, but Curtis says, let her. He’s hungry. TJ and Stella leave. Curtis says thank God everything worked out.

Maxie tells Jax that she’s had no chance to suck up to her new boss. He says he’s fine, and she tells him, suit himself. He asks what Nina was saying about Ava, but Maxie says, it’s not about Ava; it’s about Nina, and how much she loves the magazine. She’d do anything to make it successful, and if this works out, they’ll get revenue and Ava will get what she deserves.

Ava leaves a message, asking if a collector is still interested in a Matisse, and if so, call her back. Nina says she’s been looking for Ava. Ava asks what she wants, and Nina says, to offer her the cover of Crimson.

Sasha says, it’s so amazing. They have to ride a carousel; it’s non-negotiable. She also suggests fishing and a lighthouse. Michael says his buddy told him to check the beaches near the lighthouse, and Sasha laughs. She tells him that she knows why. Bathing suits are optional. He says they’re definitely going then. She says she has to pack, and he says she doesn’t need a suit. She tells him, if it’s optional for her, it is for him too.

The doctor tells Carly to try and relax. Carly says she’ll do her best, and asks if the doctor can rush the results. The doctor says she’ll do her best.

Curtis asks if he can get Jordan anything, but she says she’s good. She asks if he’s okay, and he says, better than okay. It all worked out. He honestly didn’t know if they’d get there. He hoped and prayed, but didn’t know. Jordan says, it’s unbelievable really, that Ryan changed his mind and gave her a kidney. Curtis says, the Lord works in mysterious ways. Jordan says, you’re telling me.

Ryan is wheeled out on a gurney by some cops. Elizabeth, Franco, and Finn watch. Laura comes out, and Doc joins her. They all look at each other. Ryan is wheeled into the elevator as they watch. The elevator doors close, and they all go back to work.

On Monday, Nina wants to give Ava an opportunity to tell the world, Diane asks what Willow suggests she do, and Shiloh asks someone how he goes about tracking a person down.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

Fear the Walking Dead

Older kid Max is trying to teach little kid Dylan how to shoot. Dylan shoots at a deer, and it runs. They follow it, finding it dead. A zombie comes out of the woods, and I hope they get eaten. Max says they can get out, but his gun jams. Instead of running, he keeps trying.

A small plane flies low, and the zombie gets chopped in half, but you know how determined they are. It keeps moving. The kids see flames in the clearing, and find the plane has crashed. Zombies are popping out of everywhere now, but Max isn’t real bright, and keeps trying get the gun to work instead of getting the hell out of there. A zombie gets close, but it’s suddenly down. Alicia says they’re here to help, and she gets cracking on that.

Max and Dylan find Morgan hanging upside down in the plane. A zombie nearly gets him, but he gets out. Max asks, who are you people? and Morgan says they came to help. Are they the Logans? Max asks, who? Alicia says they can’t stay long. Luci has been impaled by a metal pipe in the plane. John and Morgan call for June, who’s semi-conscious in the cockpit. Morgan asks Dylan to put pressure on Luci’s wound, and keep her from moving. He’s going to make sure nothing out there gets inside. Max asks, what if it does? and Morgan says, if it’s dead, shoot it.

A zombie pokes at June’s face. She calls to Al, who regains consciousness. Alicia is outside, whacking zombies right and left, and almost hits Morgan. He tells her, easy, and points out that her hands are covered in blood. Al and June unbuckle themselves, and John sees through the window that they’re okay. Morgan says they’re about ten to fifteen miles from the touchdown site; they’ll make it. Alicia takes a zombie’s head off.

Morgan asks if Logan copies, and says they’re coming, but it might take longer than they thought. Alicia starts setting up something, pounding stakes into the ground. John helps June and Al get out of the plane. Al radios Victor, telling him the plane crashed. There’s a tape back at the mill labeled skidmark, and It will explain how to fly a small plane. They need him to come get them. It looks like he’ll fly after all. She can’t hear Victor, and John says he must be out of range. He helps her out of the plane.

Where did all these zombies come from? is a good question. Morgan and Alicia get busy knocking them off. Dylan tells Luci that they’re friends, and help is coming. June runs in to attend to Luci. Alicia falls, and sees a sign that says, Radiation Area. John asks how Luci is, and June says tells him that they have to cut her free, but the boxes with supplies are scattered everywhere. Al and John look through everything for a hacksaw, as Al’s camera records.

Al is grabbed by a zombie in a Darth Vader-ish mask, and matching suit made out of puffer material. She pushes him back, and impales him through the back on a pipe. She grabs her camera and films. John shows her the hacksaw, and they go back to where Luci is. John cuts at the pipe piercing Luci to get her free, and she screams. John says they need a clear path. June says they’ll make it work, and Morgan says they can do this. Alicia says she’ll lead, and Morgan will take the side. She tells the boys to stay in the middle, and watch their backs. Now.

A truck comes toward them, running right over some zombies. The teenage girl driving tells them to get in. Max says it’s their sister, Annie.

In the truck, Morgan says he hates flying anyway. June says, the dead are everywhere, but Annie says the dead are the least of their problems. They have no idea where they landed, do they?

In a truck, Charlie asks Victor if he’s sure Al said skidmark. In another truck, Sarah asks Wendell if he’s up for this. He says he is, and she tells him, he said that the last time. He insists he’s sure.

Alicia asks, what happened? and Anna says they don’t know. They just stay away from them. Dylan asks if Al is a pilot, and she says, no. He says, no wonder they crashed, but John says it would have been worse if she hadn’t done what she did. Max asks if Logan is part of their crew. John says, no; just someone they’re helping. Annie says, he’s probably dead. They screech to a stop. Al thinks he just got into trouble, and Max says they can’t go around helping people they don’t know. Morgan says, they did, but Max says, they didn’t feel like they had a choice. Morgan says neither do they. Annie asks, why? and Morgan says they try to do what they can to make things better. She tells him, good luck with that. This place is worse than it seems. Alicia asks what she means, and Annie says, it’s not just signs. It’s the… she’ll see.

They drive until they see some zombies tethered together across the road. They get out, and see a tree with zombie heads hanging from it by their hair. Al asks Annie if they did this. Annie says, no, but they’re all over the place. June says they need to keep moving, but Annie says she’s not driving into that. Morgan says they’ll walk. It’s something they have to do. Annie says they don’t know the guy, but Morgan says they’ve been doing this for a while; helping people. They haven’t had a whole lot of luck. Annie asks what he means, and Al says, people are either dead, missing, or don’t want to be found. Logan and his people were the first who do. Annie says, it better be worth it, and tells them, get in. Morgan thanks her.

They get to the truck stop, and Alicia tells them, Logan said they were surrounded, but there’s no one there. They go inside, carrying Luci on a makeshift stretcher. Morgan calls for Logan, but there’s no answer. They set Luci on a table. John looks around outside, and checks the garages. He finds nothing. Al and June canvas the inside, but it’s dark and quiet.

Morgan finds a radio, and asks if Logan copies. They’re at the truck stop. June tells Luci, they’re going to do this. Luci says it hurts, but June says she’ll be okay. She gives John a list of supplies they need, and tells him, it’s not going to be pretty. He asks if she’s done this before, and she says, at trauma the center, but not at a truck stop. Dylan shows Luci a toy truck, and asks what it’s for. Lucy says, the man who set it up, drives a truck. Dylan wonders why he’d need toys, and Lucy says, it’s his way of giving people something to believe in. Dylan asks where he is, and Lucy says, he didn’t make it, so they tried to turn it into something more.

Morgan tells the kids that they have a place on the other side that used to be a factory. John says they had a movie night. Morgan says they were working on it. A place for people to feel safe and call home. Annie says, places like that don’t exist, and June says, they do. Morgan suggests the kids come back with them. Alicia comes back, and says, no one has been here for a long time. Al wonders if it could be another truck stop, but Alicia says, it’s the only one for miles. Morgan says they have to be there. Annie wonders what’s wrong with them? Morgan says she can trust them, and doesn’t have to be afraid. Annie tells him, that’s what people always say when there’s something to be afraid of. Morgan says, they just have to help a friend. Max picks up his gun, and Annie says, if they’re smart, they’ll get their friend and get out. They jet, but Morgan calls to them, please wait. He says they can help.

June gets ready to work on Luci. She says they won’t have much time if it starts to bleed. At the count of three… They pull the pipe out of Luci, and she screams.

A guy uses a combination to open the gate at the mill. He calls out, but no one answers. He sees a box that says, take what you need – leave what you don’t, written on it. He walks through the building, and finds a room with empty beds, and schedules on a bulletin board. He looks at a movie requests sheet, and sees a load of Al’s tapes. It’s Matt Frewer, and I suddenly get very distracted by that. I hadn’t known he was joining the cast. I assume he’s not just passing through.

Alicia says the kids were like everyone else they tried to help. She and Al lock up. A zombie stumbles out from around the corner. Alicia looks bored as she pikes it in the head.

June tells Luci that she’s very lucky. If it was off by a centimeter or they’d hit a bad bump in the car, she wouldn’t be there. Morgan continues to try the radio. He thinks something isn’t right, but Logan suddenly comes through. Morgan says he had them worried, and asks where he is. They’ll come to him. Logan says, that would be a little tricky. He’s there with his crew, looking at Morgan’s crew, and a spectacular view of the river. It’s Matt Frewer, inside the mill, while Victor and company stand outside. Logan says sees they’ve been driving the big rig with C & L on the trailer. From what he’s gathered, they’ve met the C, and he’s the L. Morgan asks why he brought them there, and Logan says he wanted what was his. It was the only way to get them far enough away, so he could slip in without a big fuss. Alicia says they found a plane and crashed it, because they wanted to help him. He says they make Clayton look like an amateur. Morgan asks where he brought them, and Logan says, a truck stop far away. He’s reclaiming what’s his. The one thing Clay said that he agreed with is, take what you need; leave what you don’t.

Victor and the others look around outside the mill. On the radio, Alicia says, don’t do this. Logan says he already did. She says she’ going to find him, and kill him herself. He says, for taking over a place where he’s the legal owner? I guess he does have a point. He says they have a more pressing quandary; her attitude. He doesn’t want to see people dead, he just wants what’s his. They want to help people? It looks like they’ll have to help themselves. Geez. Luci is sitting up already. June is good.

Sarah drinks a beer, and looks at an old ad for Jim’s brew. She says, you missed a real sh*t pie a la mode today, Jimbo. They joke’s on them. Wendell says, it tastes like vinaigrette, but she’ll get there. Charlie tells Victor she can find a way in, and Victor tells her to get the tape. He should have been on the plane today. He sure as hell is going to be on this one.

Al looks through what she recorded earlier. She takes a closer look at the zombie in the mask. She tells Morgan that she has to go back to where the plane is. There’s a story there. Morgan suggests going in the morning, but she thinks it might not be there if she waits. She knows her tapes haven’t helped them so far, but Morgan says it’s not her fault. He tells her to go and see June.

John asks June how Luci is doing. June says, she might have nerve damage, but she’ll be okay. He says look what he found, and shows her a copy of the film, It Happened One Night. She says, Clayton had good taste. John says he’ll save it for when they have people to show it to. She says, there’s a VCR in the back, but he says, let’s wait. June says, they’ll find him. John tells her that he was starting to think got all the luck in this world. They’ve survived things people don’t survive. Most people don’t have that kind of good luck. It would be a shame not to share it. They hug, and June says she didn’t think anyone could help her, not even him, until he made her believe it. So that’s what they have to do. Find a way to make other people believe it. They kiss, but John looks distressed.

Alicia stabs zombies. Can’t stop; won’t stop. Morgan says, hey, and Alicia says they could have died today. Luci almost did. The people they came for took what they had back home, and the kids ran from them. They can’t make up for the past if they’re dead. This was stupid. Morgan says, they were trying. They can’t make up for the past if they don’t try. She says her mom did so much to make sure they were standing there. Why? If they’re out there, they need to make it mean something. Morgan says he’s not done yet. It’s what they need – what he needs – because they’re not done yet. They could keep looking for the kids. Alicia says they don’t want help, but Morgan says they’ll keep trying until they do. It’s not supposed to be easy. They can’t just say they want to help and that’s it. They kill people. The things they’ve done – the things he’s done – they should be hard. Maybe that’s how they know they’re on the right track. Alicia says, it shouldn’t be this hard. Morgan says they’re still standing; they’re still here. Until they’re not, they have to keep at it. She walks off, and he walks in the other direction.

Victor looks at the skidmark tape. He sees Al’s interview with Daniel. Victor is like, what?!

It’s pouring rain, but Al goes back to the impaled zombie. She takes the mask off, and stabs him in the head. She begins to film, and finds a wire attacked to his jacket. She pulls out some kind of electrical component, and a pouch. She pulls a map out of the pouch. On the map, are the letters CRM and three circles interlinked. She radios Morgan, and says she’s back at the plane. He asks if it can wait, and she says, she was right. There’s a story there.

Someone comes up from behind, and knocks her out using a taser. It’s another guy in a mask and suit, but I don’t think he’s a zombie.

Next time, I don’t know. Either they didn’t show it or I wasn’t paying attention.

💀 I was, however, paying attention to the code word for TWD Rewards during Talking Dead. It was skidmark, and Chris Hardwick made me laugh when he cautioned viewers to enter it at the website, not Google. Yeah, I can only imagine, but don’t want to. The guests also gave a tease that the radiation sign Alicia saw would have something to do with the storyline, and how that might have affected the zombies. Chris acted like this was all fresh, but um… Z Nation addressed that issue some time ago. (Still sobbing over its cancelation.)

And still hanging on. Tyrion was really the only character I was invested in. Except for the dragons and direwolves.

Eva Longoria is making another attempt at a show. I hope it works out for her. I loved Devious Maids and Telenova, but apparently the general public and/or network didn’t feel the same.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I missed the first couple of minutes. Mea culpa and all that.

Sonny tells Michael that they all could have done better, but Neil said it’s a process. They have to keep trying until they reach Kristina.

Kim asks Oscar to come inside from the terrace. Oscar says they were just talking about how nice it was being outside, but Drew agrees it’s getting chilly. Oscar asks to see the picture Monica took of them. Kim shows him, and says his grandmother took a lot of great pictures today. Oscar says, there’s one person missing. Jason comes out on the terrace, and Oscar says he’s glad Jason made it.

Outside Kelly’s, on the phone with Robin, Anna says that she and Robin’s dad were reminiscing about working in Italy. She has a gift she’d like to give Robin; a bracelet they bought in Italy. It’s not valuable, but it’s kind of priceless. It reminds them of how lucky they are that she’s their daughter, and Anna wants her to have it. She says Finn is there, and he’s fine.

At the MetroCourt, Lulu tells Peter that her mom caught her up on a few developments. She knew there was a chance that Ryan could be alive, but finding his severed hand was news. Peter asks if that’s why she came back, to chase the Ryan Chamberlain story. She says Ryan came thisclose to taking her life. Now she knows exactly what she needs. He’s afraid to ask, and she says, a one on one with the object of Ryan’s obsession – Ava Jerome.

At the Crimson office, Nina tells Sasha to go home and get back in bed. Sasha says she’ll be fine. Maxie needs an objective opinion about what dress to wear. Sasha sneezes, and Maxie says, for the sake of her date, maybe Sasha should keep a safe distance. Nina says the worst that will happen is, she’ll have to cancel, and wait seven days. Sasha asks if Nina is still mad at Peter. Nina says he ran a DNA test behind her back. Some things aren’t forgivable. Sasha says Nina says it was her privacy that was invaded, and she forgave Peter. Why can’t Nina? She also forgave Maxie. Nina says, Maxie is family, and Maxie says, so is Peter. Nina says, for all his good intentions, all she can see is that he tried to take her daughter from her. Maxie says Nina has already forgiven her; she might as well forgive Peter. Sasha says, Maxie is right. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Let it go.

Michael tells Sonny and Carly that he’d promised he wouldn’t judge Kristina or the situation. Carly says his sister joined a cult. How open-minded are they supposed to be? They’re not saying she’s stupid. She wanted to find new experiences that make her happy, and that’s a good thing. Shiloh took advantage of her. Michael asks what she’s saying, and she tells him not to judge himself. They need to fall back and regroup. Michael gets that, but he lost patience, and stormed out. Sonny says, it was emotional for everyone. Neil will tell them when they can reach out again. Michael starts coughing, and says, maybe they can get together and talk about what they’re going to do for the next session, so they’re not blindsided.

Oscar tells Josslyn and Cameron about changing his name. Cameron says, technically, he just added a hyphen. Is he hyphenating? Oscar tells Cameron not to jump on his moment, and says, Oscar Nero Quartermaine at their service. He says he wouldn’t have changed his name without checking with his mom first, and she’s awesome for saying yes.

Julian arrives at the Quartermaine’s, and tells Olivia that Oscar’s mom said it was okay for him to come. Olivia says she’s trying to be supportive without getting in the way. From now to the end, it’s all about Oscar. He says, Kim probably already told her, but her help is appreciated. Olivia says Kim did tell her, but it’s still nice to hear. He wishes he could do more. Olivia can’t believe she’s saying this, but Julian might be just what she needs right now.

Kim asks Drew to pull rank, and tell Oscar that he needs to rest. Drew tells Oscar it’s nap time, but Oscar asks for a minute to speak to Jason alone.

Anna asks what the chances were of Robin calling. She’s glad she didn’t FaceTime, since she’d been so upset. Robert says she had a nasty scare. It was of her own creation, but she’s still entitled to feel relieved. She says she is. Finn asks how Robin is, and Anna says, she called up to see how her mom was doing. Her mom. Robert says, it’s got a nice ring to it. Anna says Alex’s mind games can’t take away Robin being her daughter. Robert says she’s his daughter too. Anna says, their daughter, and she wouldn’t change a thing. Robert asks if Finn would.

Lulu tells Peter that Ryan became obsessed with Ava. He murdered her daughter, and posed as Doc. She consented to have sex with Doc, not Ryan. Peter asks if she thinks Ava wants her story told. Lulu says she’ll be respectful and careful; she promises. Peter asks if she’s sure she’s okay. It’s not the only major event she’s carrying. Lulu says, Dante? That’s different. He didn’t abandon his family. As much as she loves and misses him, she knows he’s where he needs to be. Peter asks if she’s saying that Dante left because he loves her. She says, he did. It hurts like hell, but it’s the price you pay for loving someone. Peter says she makes it sound like it’s worth it, and she says, love always is.

Maxie goes to the Crimson closet, and looks at dresses. Nina tells her, go with the black, but Maxie is afraid it says Protestant in mourning, and she’s neither. Nina knows she loves and misses Nathan, but he’d want her to move on and be happy. Maxie says, just not this soon with this guy. Nina says, while she has her reservations, that’s her problem. It’s just that it’s happening so quickly. Maxie says, it’s one date. Nina says they both know that’s not true. If it goes the way Maxie wants it, Peter will become more than James’s uncle. He’ll be permanent and close. Maxie says, no matter what happens, Nina will always be a part of the family. Nathan… Nina says, would tell her to back off. She can hear his voice in her head telling her to stop. She tells Sasha that she would have loved him, but Sasha is passed out at her computer. Nina shakes her, and Sasha says, she’s okay. Nina says, she’s not. She’s burning up.

Carly tells Michael that he’s burning up. Go home, and get in bed. He says before she airlifts him to GH, he’ll nip it in the bud. He needs to be sharp when they see Kristina. He also doesn’t want to get anyone else sick, especially Carly and the baby, so he’s going to take off. Sonny says he’ll let Michael know when Neil calls. Michael leaves, and Carly says, nothing from Josslyn. Sonny says, maybe that’s good news, and Oscar is holding his own. Carly says, it’s not day to day; it’s hour to hour. She knows what’s coming for Josslyn, but can’t stop it. Sonny says, what she’s going through is devastating. Nothing can prepare her for what’s going to happen. Carly has to let her go through it, and be there when it does. Carly says she needs to let Josslyn feel what she’s going to, but wants to show her there are good things in the world to look for too, like the new baby. Avery appears, and says, what baby?

Oscar doesn’t mean to pressure Jason, but wants to make sure he didn’t change his mind about being executor. Jason says, whatever Oscar needs, he can count on him. Oscar thanks him, and Jason asks if he needs a hand getting back inside. Oscar says there’s one more thing Jason can help him with.

Finn tells Robert, any changes in the dynamic between him and Anna are their business. Anna says she’s happy. She can’t imagine things getting any better. Robert tells Finn, there’s no point in gilding the lily, old man. Finn says he’s glad they’re all on the same page, but he needs to get to work. We see Robert’s hands under the table, holding Finn’s engagement ring (I apparently missed how he ended up with it), and Finn makes a gesture to Robert behind Anna’s back. When he’s gone, Anna asks Robert if he’s happy now. Robert says he thought Finn would never leave, and Anna asks why he’s still giving Finn a hard time. What’s wrong with him?

Lulu tells Peter that she didn’t come home because Rocco was bored, or because she was done decompressing. She needed to be with the people who are there for her; her mom, Maxie, and Charlotte. Just being around them makes her feel better, and she needs to be there for them. That’s what love is. He says he wouldn’t know. The only emotions he had for his father were fear and hatred, and when his father wasn’t around, relief. He didn’t know his mom existed until he came to Port Charles, and their relationship is tenuous at best. She says there’s never been anyone else he loved? Be completely honest. He says he doesn’t know if he can love someone else.

Sasha tells Nina, it’s just a cold or a 24-hour bug. She’ll be fine by this time tomorrow. Nina says, by this time tomorrow, she’ll be on antibiotics. She asks if Nina has had a flu shot. Maxie says she needs to handle it before she spreads it around. Nina says, no more arguing. Sasha is coming with her.

Sonny says Avery was eavesdropping? He mom is great at it. Carly says Avery asked a question, and deserves an answer. Sonny was going to tell her when they time was right, but he guesses the time is right now. He says Avery has heard him and Carly talking about having a baby. How would she feel about a baby brother or sister? Avery looks around, and asks where they are, but Sonny says, a baby takes time. Carly says they don’t know if it’s a boy or girl, but the baby will need love, and it helps to have a big sister. Sonny tells Avery that’s what she’s going to be. She’s going to be a big sister. Does it make her happy?

Jason and Oscar go back inside. Jason tells Oscar he can’t do it without Kim’s permission. Oscar asks Kim if Jason can give him a ride on his motorcycle. Kim asks if they’re insane, and Julian says he’s not sure that’s a good idea. Kim says, Oscar could have a seizure and pass out. Olivia adds, there could be an accident. No matter how careful Jason is, they happen. Oscar asks Drew what he thinks. Drew thinks it’s a good idea, and Kim says he can’t be serious. Drew says it doesn’t have be far. Jason can stay on the property. Olivia says. it’s insane in his condition. Josslyn says, it’s what Oscar wants, and Cameron says, there’s so much he can’t do that’s on his bucket list. Why not do this? Kim says it’s nice they want to risk her son’s life for a thrill ride, but they’re not his mother. Every moment is precious. Oscar says, please? He’ll never get to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Jason says if something goes wrong, he can stop safely until help comes. Josslyn says Kim can trust Jason not to let anything happen to Oscar. Oscar says, just one time, and Kim says he will be wearing a helmet.

Robert tells Anna that he just wants her to be happy. She says, today is a banner day then. She is really happy. He says, tastes change, and she asks why he’s saying that. Because she chose a fundamentally good man, who’s dedicated his life to helping people? He says, as opposed to one who runs around shooting people? She says she cherishes the time she and Robert had together, and the day they created their daughter. Robert says, Robin. She’s their daughter, and always will be. She tells him, stop messing with Finn; give him a break. He tells her, so be happy. This guy better be worth it. Anna says, he is. She leaves, and Robert takes the ring out of his picket and looks at it.

Nina brings Sasha into the hospital. She tells Finn, Sasha has a fever, and is going in and out of consciousness. Sasha says it’s just a cold, or the early stages of the flu. Nina informs her that, during the first World War, more people died from the flu than bullets and bombs. Finn has a nurse take Sasha to an examining room. Nina says she might be overreacting, but she didn’t raise Sasha, and has no knowledge of her medical history. Finn says, Sasha is an adult; they can just ask her. He’s going to confer with the nurse, and be in to check on Sasha. He leaves, and Michael gets off the elevator.

Sasha waits in the examining room. Michael walks in, and sneezes. Sasha says she told him that she’s not good for him.

Lulu tells Peter that she knows for a fact he knows how love. She’s seen the way he is with Maxie. He delivered Maxie’s baby on the side of the road, and slept outside her apartment to keep her safe. She sees how he is with her. He’s nurturing and protective. He’s got the love thing down. He just didn’t know what it was. Maxie comes in. She’s surprised to see Lulu, and they hug.

Julian asks Olivia if it would be okay for him to see Leo, and she suggests they go together. Julian asks, what if he’s sleeping? and she says, they’ll wake him up. They might not get a laugh, but they’ll definitely get sounds.

On the terrace, Drew tells Kim that he knows where Oscar gets his bravery. She says she’s not brave. She just didn’t have the strength to say no to the both of them. She ask why Drew said yes. Drew says he wants Oscar to make the most of the life he has left, even if it means taking a risk or two. We hear the Jason’s motorcycle go past.

Maxie says she has so much to tell Lulu. Sasha really is Nina’s daughter. Lulu says she thought that’s why Sasha came to town. Maxie says, long story. It goes haywire, then comes back. Lulu says, right now, she has an interview to prepare for. She looks at Peter, and before he can say anything, says she’ll take that as a yes. She jets, and Maxie asks what they talked about.

Sasha tells Michael to keep his distance; she’s contagious. He says, too late for that. She’s sorry she gave him whatever, but he says maybe he gave it to her. She says, just so he knows, it was totally worth it. Nina comes in, and says it’s nice of Michael to check on Sasha. She asks if he’s there for a Board meeting, and he says he’s there to get a prescription. It turns out he and Sasha have something in common. Finn asks Sasha when she noticed her temperature rising, and she says, this morning at the gym. Ha-ha.

Carly asks Sonny how Avery is taking it, and he says she couldn’t wait to tell Laura. She’s asking about names, and Carly suggest they find out if it’s a boy or girl first. She asks what he’s thinking about. Whatever he’s got going on, tell her, so she doesn’t make up something in her head. He says, it’s all good. Her checkup was good. Everybody is happy. She doesn’t know why he can’t relax and enjoy it. He says for the same reason she can’t.

Back at the Quartermaine’s, Oscar says it was awesome. Jason says Oscar kept trying to get him to go on the highway, and Kim thanks him for not listening. Josslyn says she knew he’d be okay. Oscar tells Cameron that he should get a bike like that. Kim says Oscar should rest now, but he has one more favor to ask. It would mean a lot if his dad and Jason could figure out how to be brothers.

Maxie says she didn’t mean to put Peter on the spot. He says Lulu kind of left him in the lurch, and he has a ton of work. She says she understands. The cover proof is a total disaster. Maybe they should reschedule. He says she already got a sitter, but she tells him it’s fine. They’ve waited this long; they can wait until they don’t have to squeeze it in. She tells him to go, and he flies.

Anna sees Finn at the hospital, and he asks if everything is all right. She says, actually, she and Robert had a trip down Memory Lane. He says, they’re done already? It’s a lot of history. He would expect it to be a longer walk. She says it reminded her of how happy she is. He asks, how happy is that? and she says, pretty happy. She doesn’t want to keep looking in the past. They kiss, and she says she’ll see him tonight. When she’s gone, he sends a text.

Robert’s phone dings. He reads, you have something of mine. Robert looks at the ring again, and smiles.

Carly tells Sonny, no offense, but she feels like she’s handling the idea of a new baby a little better than him. He says, more than little. She says she’s still scared everything could go wrong, but thinks the odds are in their favor, and they’ll have a healthy baby. Sonny says, what if they don’t? If they get more, they’ll love more, and the more they have to lose. Carly says she’s learning something from Josslyn. She’s staying in the present, and that’s where she’s focusing. She only has Oscar today. She’s trying to do the same thing with the baby. It’s all good today. The baby is healthy today, and so is she. Sonny says, today be happy. It’s all they have. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

Nina runs into Michael, and says, he’s still there? He says he figured he’d check in on Sasha, and asks if she’s seeing visitors. Nina says she was given something for her fever, and will probably be drowsy, and shoves him into the room. Sasha says, Nina? Michael asks if she wants him to get Nina, an she says, Nina. She wishes Nina was her real mother.

Jason says he never thought he and Drew would find common ground, but now.. Drew says, Oscar? and Jason says, yeah. Drew thinks him for giving Oscar a ride, and Jason thanks Drew for trusting him with his son.

Kim asks Julian how Leo is. Julian says, good. She tells him that he doesn’t have to hold back. He’s allowed to have a healthy son, and be happy about it. She thanks him for coming. He says she’s welcome, but he’s not sure what good he’s doing. She says he doesn’t have to do anything. He’s there, and that’s what matters. They hug.

Oscar tells Josslyn that he needs to talk to Cameron a moment. Josslyn says, guy stuff? and Cameron tells Oscar, don’t be embarrassed. It’s brave of Oscar to come to him for manly advice. Josslyn leaves, and Oscar tells Cameron to get out his phone. He needs to make a video. Cameron hesitates, and Oscar says, trust him. Cameron starts filming. Oscar says, hey, Joss. If you’re seeing this, it means I’m gone.

On Monday, Franco has an idea for the Nurses’ Ball, Doc says they’ll give Ryan the memorial he deserves, and Neil asks what if Sonny is wrong?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Anna comes home, and Finn asks if she had any luck. She tells him most of the reports were redacted, or there wasn’t much information in them. She couldn’t find the proof she needs to find out if she’s Robin’s mom.

Carly finds Josslyn in her office. Josslyn says she needed quiet, and asks if it was okay. Carly says, of course (🍷), and asks what she’s working on. Josslyn says, lyrics. She’s writing a song with Oscar. Carly asks how it’s going, and she says, it’s getting there. She’s trying to finish it in time for them to perform it at the Nurses’ Ball.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned sees Olivia crying, and asks if she’s all right. She says, far from it. She just came from Oscar’s room, and it looks more like an intensive care unit than a teenage boy’s room. It reminded her that he’s not coming to stay, but to die. Ned says he’ll be surrounded by family and people who love him. All they can do is make sure he’s comfortable. Olivia says hospitality is her specialty, and as long as Oscar and Kim are under their roof, they’ll be treated like royalty. She sees one of the housekeepers bringing in a wheelchair, but she doesn’t want Oscar to be greeted with it. Oscar walks in, and says, too late. He guesses he’s home.

On the phone, Julian leaves a message for Kim that he’s stuck at work. Kristina still hasn’t shown up. But he’s been thinking about her, and tells her to call if she can.

Neil asks Alexis how Kristina is. Alexis says, she finally tired herself out. He asks if she wants to talk, but Alexis says they’ll talk tomorrow. Neil says if she has an issue with him, they should address it now. They need to present a united front to Kristina tomorrow. Alexis says she practically ambushed Neil because she was so worried. Meanwhile, he was working with Kristina’s father behind her back. Is there a particular reason he didn’t tell her?

Jason asks Michael if Shiloh will make the secret public. Michael says he’s never done it before, but the threat is there. Sonny says Shiloh might have leverage over Kristina.

Shiloh says Sam is a PI, and the only one with the skills to find Kristina. She says so far, all they have is speculation. There are variables that have to be ruled out. She tells him that she’ll be in touch, but he says she didn’t think he was letting her do this alone, did she?

Anna says, maybe Robert is right. He thinks she’s punishing herself. Finn asks what she thinks. She says she made some terrible choices when she was younger, and regrets them as she should, but Robin was always her consolation. Little by little, she got her life together. She wouldn’t love Robin any less, but it would change the narrative of Robin’s life. What will it mean to her, having been raised by her aunt, and not her mother? Finn asks if there’s any of this Robin needs to know.

Olivia hugs Oscar, and Kim thanks them. Olivia tells Oscar to say the word when he gets his appetite back. Monica has given her full access to the kitchen. Drew says, believe it or not, that’s a big deal. Ned tells them their rooms are ready. Olivia says they’re on the first floor next to each other, with a beautiful view of the grounds and the lake. Kim and Drew leave to get their bags from the car. Oscar says, now that they’re gone, he needs to speak to Ned and Olivia in private.

Neil tells Alexis respect for boundaries is imperative. He sets the same parameters for all of his patients. Alexis asks if he treats other mothers along with their daughters, and if there’s a discount to offset the betrayal. He says he didn’t know Sonny until after she’d shared her concerns. Sonny summoned him to his office, and he was polite, but clear he was making an offer Neil couldn’t refuse. When he realized Kristina was also her daughter, it reinforced his decision to take her on. Alexis asks what they do now. Is it a conflict of interest? He says it would be unethical for him to talk about one patient’s sessions with another. Alexis says during their impromptu session at The Floating Rib, he shared some advice in a general way, but didn’t tell her that he had personal experience with cults.

Shiloh tells Sam that they’ll find Kristina together. She understands he wants to help, but she works best alone. He says that was before she was one of them. Now she doesn’t have to do anything by herself ever again.

Michael tells Sonny they have no way of knowing what information Kristina gave to Shiloh. It could have been about herself. Sonny says he would want something bigger. The worse the secret, the better the leverage and payoff. Michael says something about Kristina might be embarrassing, but not bring in money. Jason says, Kristina doesn’t know about the business, but Michael says, all the kids know what Sonny does. Jason says all Kristina knows are Sonny’s allegedly illegal acts; she has no facts or proof. Sonny needs time to process everything, and decide what to do. He thanks Michael. Michael says he has to meet Josslyn. He promised her a ride to see Oscar. He and Kim are moving into the Quartermaine’s today. He leaves, and Sonny tells Jason, the truth is, they don’t know what Shiloh has on him or what Kristina gave Shiloh as a pledge.

Anna tells Finn, if Robin is Alex’s daughter, she needs to know. If she had proof, it would be easy. The discussion would be incredibly painful, but straightforward. She couldn’t keep that secret. It would be in violation of what they mean to each other, their history, and all they’ve shared. All she has is a paranoid theory. Finn says, that’s not entirely true. There are intensive paternity tests that can determine who’s the mother between identical twins. Anna asks if it’s feasible. He says, it’s tricky and complicated, and they need the DNA from all parties. She says, Robert would never agree. Even if she got a sample without his knowledge, she’d still have to get Alex and tell Robin. If Robert found out, he’d lose his mind, and it would tear apart the family for no reason. Finn’s phone rings. He has an emergency at the hospital. Anna says she’s all right. She needs to think about all this. She tells him to go, and that she loves him. He says he loves her too.

Sonny tells Jason, the worst case is Kristina got into his business records. Jason says between Brick and Spinelli, all the records are encrypted. She’s never even got close enough to overhear anything. Sonny says, it’s a long shot, but they have to be prepared. Jason says they have two options. One is, ask Kristina. Sonny says they haven’t even started reprogramming her yet. Jason says, then they need to find out where Shiloh keeps the pledges, and destroy them. Sonny says, they need Sam.

Sam and Shiloh go to Charlie’s. Sam tells Julian that they’re trying to find Kristina; has he seen her? He says he can tell them where she’s supposed to be – tending bar – but she was a no show. If they find her, tell her she’s about to lose her job.

Carly thinks it’s great that Josslyn and Oscar are writing a song together. She’d love to hear it if Josslyn wants to share. Josslyn asks if she thinks it’s going to be that bad. Carly says she’s sure it’s not a hot mess, but understands if Josslyn wants to wait until it’s finished. Josslyn hopes they get a chance to perform it. She thinks the more Oscar has to look forward to, the better. Carly agrees. Giving Oscar a goal, and something to anticipate is good. She sees how hard Josslyn is working to stay positive. Michael comes in, and says he thought they were meeting in the lobby. Josslyn says, sorry; she lost track of time. Carly asks if this is bring your kids to work day, and would they like dinner? Michael says, they would, but Oscar is moving in today. Josslyn goes to get her stuff, and Carly says, it must be tough for her. Michael promises to look out for her, and Carly says he’s the best.

Oscar says he needs a favor from Olivia and Ned. Olivia says, anything, and he says he needs them to plan his funeral.

Anna looks through a photo album, and says she couldn’t stand if she wasn’t Robin’s mother. Maybe Robert is right, and she’s being ridiculous, but what if it’s true? She looks closer at one of the photos, and asks if it could be that simple. She gets up.

Drew asks if Kim is okay. He knows it’s difficult. Up until now, it was just her and Oscar, and now, all this family. She knows they’re just trying to help. He says if they seem demanding, or she doesn’t feel right, he’ll back up her decision. She says she’s not going to lie. It feels overwhelming, but it’s Oscar’s choice. Demanding or not, if being here helps him in any way, she’s all in.

Oscar tells Ned and Olivia, first, he doesn’t want a funeral, but a memorial. Nothing solemn or sad. He’s hoping he can trust them to see it through. Ned says they shouldn’t get ahead of themselves, but Oscar says he knows that’s not true. He wouldn’t be there otherwise. He gives Ned a paper. Olivia says there’s nothing they wouldn’t do for Oscar, but doesn’t he think his parents should be involved? Oscar says, no. They’ll be devastated, and he doesn’t want to burden them, his grandmother, or Josslyn any more than they already are. They’re going through enough. He tells Olivia, no tears. Promise him? Ned says, she cries at weddings, baptisms, birthdays… Olivia says, and Hallmark commercials. Oscar says, they’re brutal. She can’t promise no tears, but other than that, she can follow his instructions to the letter. Ned says, it’s doable. They’ll take care of it. He promises. Josslyn comes in, and asks if she’s interrupting something. Oscar says, no. They were just talking about the future.

Drew thanks Michael. Michael is glad they’re moving in. It means a lot to his grandmother. Family supports family, and Oscar is one of them.

Alexis asks Neil if he has a friend in a cult. He says, no, but he’s observed his share of their deceit and lies. She says she’s simply asking what his insight is regarding his personal experience. He says he’s not a friend; he’s her doctor. She says, got it. So is he going to help her daughter? She’s a wreck. He says he’s adding his professional insight to the process, but he’s not sharing. She needs to respect his ethnical boundaries – if she wants to see him. Hmm… Was that some kind of flirting? They did almost go out when they first met.

Julian tells Sam that Kristina is probably on an impromptu spring break, and on a plane to Florida as they speak. Sam says, that sounds like her. Shiloh asks Julian to get in touch if he hears from Kristina. Julian says, and he is…? Shiloh introduces himself. That made me laugh. Shiloh probably assumes everyone knows who he is, and maybe Julian does, but put him in his place.

Jason tells Sonny that’s why Sam has been taking classes. She’s trying to get Shiloh to trust her, so she can come up with evidence, but so far she’s come up empty. Sonny says now she has something specific to look for; the pledge. Jason says he can get into the house and look, but Sonny says what if he gets caught? Margaux dropped the charges because Shiloh told her too, but if Shiloh wants to press charges, she’ll do it. Sam is in a better position. Jason says the more time she spends with DOD and Shiloh, the bigger the chance things can go wrong, and she’ll get caught.

Jason tells Carly that he saw Michael. He said Oscar was moving into the Quartermaine’s. Carly says he just left with Josslyn. Jason asks how Josslyn is doing, and Carly says, she’s doing everything she can to support Oscar. They’re writing some lyrics, and she wants to perform with him at the Nurses’ Ball. She’s not in denial, but she’s trying to stay positive. He asks how Carly feels, and she says, it’s tough, seeing your kid in pain. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare. She wants to stay present, and be supportive, but wishes she could shield Josslyn from what’s coming. Jason says, sometimes you just can’t.

Josslyn wants Oscar’s input on the lyrics. They need to get this down before the Nurses’ Ball. Oscar looks the lyrics over. He thinks she should perform with someone else. She says, no; it’s their song. He knows, and they can finish writing it together, but she should find someone to rehearse and sing it with her. She says she’s not performing with anyone else. He says they both know he might not make it to that night. He doesn’t want let her down. Josslyn suggests they not to get ahead of themselves. They’re here right now. She thinks a chord needs tweaking. He smiles, but it’s a kind of sad smile.

Alexis goes to Charlie’s. Sam asks her if she remembers Shiloh. They’re concerned about Kristina. She hasn’t been at DOD since last night. Alexis says she just spoke to her. She wanted to give Julian a message. Sam asks, what’s going on? but Alexis says she knows her sister. She didn’t give any details. She left because she got cold feet about a big position of some kind. Shiloh asks if she said where she was going. Alexis says, no, but she’s safe. She thinks Kristina needs time to clear her head. Sam says they should get going, and Shiloh asks Alexis to have Kristina call him if she speaks to her.

Outside, Shiloh wonders where Kristina went. Sam says, with Kristina, you never know. Shiloh says he’s going back to meditate on this. (<snort>) He asks if Sam wants to join him, like it’s a hot tub, but she says she can’t. She has to pick up the kids. Like dogs, kids can be a great excuse if necessary. He thanks her, and says he trusts her commitment is deeper than her sister’s. She says, no question. He leaves, and she looks worried.

Sonny asks Neil what they’re getting into. Is it like an intervention? Neil says, sort of. He’ll serve as moderator, so Kristina feels like she’s being heard. He asks if Sonny has read the book. Sonny says he has, but doesn’t connect with it. He doesn’t see how it could convince Kristina to give up her family. Neil says, Shiloh’s prose is deliberately opaque, so the reader can project their own problems and inadequacies into it. Shiloh acts superior, and supplies answers, positive reinforcement, and wisdom. He becomes synonymous with enlightenment. Sonny asks if Neil understands this garbage, and Neil says, it’s not garbage to Kristina, and Sonny has to understand it importance to her if they’re going to get her back. Sonny says they have another problem. Kristina might have given Shiloh leverage for blackmail.

Michael asks Kim if she’s happy with the guest room. Kim says it’s more than twice the size of her apartment. Michael says, it takes a while to get used to. It’s a great house. The people who live in it are crazy, but well intentioned. When the chips are down, they have each other’s backs. Hers too. I tried to find out how many rooms were supposed to be in the Quartermaine mansion, but came up empty.

Josslyn thinks the lyrics still need work. Oscar suggests, life is short, and the list is long. Better? She says, much. They have the first verse and the chorus down. It’s coming together well. Oscar says they make a good team, and she says, they do. He asks if she wants to hear how it sounds, and picks up the guitar.

Carly tells Jason that her heart breaks for Drew and Kim. She knows the pain that’s coming. There’s nothing worse than losing a child. Josslyn is too young to lose the boy she loves, and she has to watch him die. Jason says she has to support and love Josslyn, and somehow get through it. Carly tells him, Josslyn said it’s worth pain of losing Oscar because she loves him so much; and she meant it. Carly has to find a way to honor that. Jason says she will. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Sam. She asks if Jason has a second. It’s about Kristina. Carly tells him, go.

Jason asks how it went with Shiloh. Sam says he insisted on tagging along when she searched for Kristina. Luckily, they ran into her mother, who said she’s spoken to Kristina, and that she needs time to figure things out. Jason asks if Shiloh bought it, and Sam says, thank God. He was convinced Jason kidnapped Kristina.

Julian tells Alexis, sorry, but he’s had it with her daughter. He asks if Kristina wants to quit, but Alexis says she doesn’t. Think of it was a leave of absence. Julian says, a sabbatical from bartending? Alexis says she needs the job. It’s the one stable thing in her life. He asks how this is his problem. He can’t make any promises. He’s stuck his neck out enough for her. He fronted her salary when she needed a substantial loan. Something to do with her group.

Sonny tells Neil, Kristina shared damaging information with Shiloh. Some kind of tribute or pledge before she could join the Trust. Neil says it’s par for the course to manipulate cult members that way, so they can’t leave. Sometimes it’s financial, sometimes personal, sometimes both. They’d sacrifice anything for the approval of their leader. Sonny says they need to know what they’re dealing with. What kind of leverage Shiloh has. He wants to ask Kristina, but Neil says, absolutely not.

Anna opens a box with memories in it. She pulls various items out, and tosses them aside. She finds a metal box full of jewelry. She takes out a bracelet, and cries. Finn comes in, and she tells him, it’s all right. She found it. He asks, what? and she says, proof that she’s Robin’s mom.

Carly picks up a crumpled paper that missed the wastebasket.

Oscar plays and sings. Josslyn suggests a lower pitch. He he leans back, and she asks if he’s all right. He says he got tired, and Josslyn says, it’s okay. They can pick it up again tomorrow. Oscar says, no. He wants to keep going, and plays some more. Josslyn watches him. Kim listens on the stairs. Drew comes in, and says, he’s pretty good. Kim cries, and he holds her.

Julian tells Alexis that he didn’t realize Kristina was flying off to God-knows-where when he gave her $10K. Alexis asks what he was thinking, and he says what he does for his employees is his business. She says it’s her business when the employee is her child. She asks if what he did for Kristina was actually for her, and he says, no good deed... Alexis writes a check, and he asks what she’s doing. She says, damage control. She asks him not to cash it right away; she needs to move some money around. She wants him to promise to give Kristina her job back, and he says, okay. He hopes Kristina is okay, and Alexis says, she will be.

Jason tells Sam, before Kristina joined the Trust, she had to give a pledge. Something Shiloh could hold over her head; something incriminating about her or someone she loves. Sam says, Sonny, and Jason says, it makes sense. Kristina doesn’t have any secrets that would be worth money. Sam has access to the house. Does she think she can find Kristina’s pledge? She says she has to, or Kristina will never be free.

Shiloh goes back to his office or mediation room or whatever. He opens a file drawer, and takes out Kristina’s file. For as long as it took, the pledge is pretty short. The most I can read is, Kiefer’s death was no accident. (See below for info on who Kiefer was, and why this makes no sense.)

Neil tells Sonny, Kristina is nowhere near ready talk about the pledge. He’s seen how fragile Kristina is. If she told a secret about herself, she’ll be deeply ashamed, but if she thinks she betrayed Sonny, it will shatter her. When glass shatters, it’s like a bomb; pieces everywhere. A broken glass can be repaired, but a shattered glass is destroyed forever.

Tomorrow, Franco asks if he’s under investigation, Maxie asks Obrecht what the secret is that she’s holding over Valentin’s head, and Ava asks someone how long they’ve been following her.

❓ About That Kiefer…

You know everyone had to be googling Kiefer’s death. I did too, and I can’t figure it out. The short version is, Kiefer was Kristina’s boyfriend; he beat her; Alexis ran him over; Sam and Molly found him, and brought him to GH; he died; and Alexis eventually confessed. Unless they’re changing this narrative, I don’t know how this is leverage. Everything was public knowledge. It would be really funny though, if Shiloh is just stupid, and the joke is on him.

👘 On Project Runway, the challenge was to create a female video game protagonist, but the contestants were cautioned not to make it into a superhero costume. They were to be functional, yet fashionable, which seems to be part of the criteria nearly every week. Hester was the winner, with an all-black pants number that had neon and see-through accents, including a cute vinyl backpack. Rakan was out, with a bit of a silver/cranberry polyvinyl mess that was too constricting. He was a good sport, saying it was a pleasure and a great platform, and he was proud of himself. Venny – who was disappointed in his own effort, thinking it looked like something from a church choir, although I thought it was more like from a cheerleading squad – gave the best quote: It was a great concept in my head. Yep, I know exactly how that feels.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly calls Olivia and leaves a message. She says her schedule is booked. She needs a huge favor, and asks Olivia to take over some of her meetings. Things are busy there. Sonny asks how much she’s handing off. Kim told her to reduce her stress. He doesn’t know how much she told Olivia, but Carly says they agreed not to tell anything yet. He asks about her diet, and she promises to eat only organic potato chips. He says she’s supposed to reduce her stress. He’s not taking any chances on her health. Josslyn comes in, and asks if she’s sick.

Sam meets Jason on the pier. She tells him that he should stop by and see the kids, but he says he’s going to be busy tailing her and Shiloh.

Harmony approaches Shiloh at the café, or whatever that new place is. He asks if she shouldn’t be in Beechers Corners, like they agreed. She says she needed to see him. She came to give him a warning.

Ava asks Franco, how he could do it? He told he that he loved Kiki, and would never hurt her. Jordan walks over, and Ava says she’s going. Ava wonders why Ryan is smiling, but he says he didn’t realize he was doing it. She asks if he’d mind telling her why, and he says, justice was done without the anguish of a trial. The nightmare is finished; it’s over for her. She says, it doesn’t make any sense. She wonders if Franco doesn’t understand the difference between innocence and guilt. Why would he plead guilty to a crime he didn’t commit, especially this one? Ryan says perhaps her faith in Franco is misplaced.

Curtis tells Lulu that he’s making one last check-in before his service is no longer required. It’s all over the media. Lulu says she expected closure, but…

Jordan asks how Franco is. He says, before today, there was one person in the world who believed in him. Now, because of her and her stupid plan, he’s lost Elizabeth.

Elizabeth goes home. She takes a photo of her and Franco down off the mantel, and looks at it. She’s about to smash it, when the doorbell rings. It’s Drew. He holds her.

Finn tells Cabot the surgery seems to be successful. Anna says, it’s time for quid pro quo. Tell her how she contracted the virus. Cabot says she seems more anxious to talk to him than he was to see again. She says they had a deal. He says it was more like extortion. Exchanging his eyesight for information isn’t the act of a moral person. Finn asks if he’s going back on the deal, and Cabot asks if Finn is going to repossess his eyes if he doesn’t talk. Finn says he’ll need continued treatment. If he refuses to tell them what they want to know, treatment ain’t coming, and the blindness will reoccur. Cabot gives his word (like this means something); he won’t back out. Anna says, it’s the ethical thing to do. Cabot says he stipulated he’d give them the information in return for his eyesight. Until the bandages are removed, he has no way of knowing if they held up their end of the bargain. Robert says, it should be a half hour. Cabot says they might be in a hurry, but he has all the time in the world.

Ava tells Ryan that Julian was concerned she’s become dependent on him. Ryan says Julian is in no position to comment on their relationship. Did Julian get to her? Ava says when Ryan didn’t show up, her imagination got the better of her. Nice as it was to hear the words, she figures she’s not meant for love, and it’s the beginning of the end. He can’t believe she’s getting insecure about their relationship now. He’s in it for the long haul. She can’t start doubting when they’re so close. She says, close to what?

Jordan tells Franco that he can and will be exonerated. He asks what if the murderer doesn’t kill again? He’ll be stuck up the river. Jordan says, that’s not an option. He says the DA needs a win, and the people he loves are the most vulnerable. She knows it isn’t easy, but he’ll prove his innocence to the world. Isn’t that what he wants? He says, more than anything, he wants be with Elizabeth. She says, then make it happen. She’s going to get him to Ferncliff for his evaluation.

Still in the courtroom, Lulu thinks about going to the door in her office. She flashes back to thanking someone for taking the time to stop by. She almost falls over, but Curtis catches her.

Elizabeth asks Drew what she’s supposed to tell the boys. How can she look in their eyes? Drew asks if she thinks he did it, but she says, it makes no sense. Why would Franco say he murdered all those people? Cameron comes downstairs, and says, Franco did what?

Carly tells Josslyn that she just had her annual checkup. She’s okay, but just wants to take it easy with work. Josslyn was hoping to ask her something.

In the hallway, Finn asks Anna if she’s okay. She says, no, and he says he figured. She says the man in there somehow blinded her. How is that possible? He tells her, look on the bright side. Cabot was blinded too. Anna tells him that he always knows what to say.

Shiloh says Harmony could have called, texted, or emailed, but she drove out there. She says she made sure Jason had just enough information to satisfy him. Shiloh says, then Jason has been taken care of, and she says, except he hasn’t been. A man showed up asking questions, and she thinks it was a PI sent by Jason. She doesn’t think Shiloh knows what he’s up against. Jason is determined to bring him down, and she’s not letting the rest of them go down too.

Jason tells Sam there was an Incident in Beechers Corners. Shiloh has a heated argument with one of his followers. The follower quit, and turned up dead in a motel outside the compound. It was a drug overdose, and an investigation as to where the drugs came from. Shiloh was the prime suspect, and they were about to bring him in, when one of his followers confessed. Sound familiar?

Josslyn tells Carly that Oscar didn’t get his junior license. She gets why, but they were bummed. They went to see Cameron, since he has a license. Carly asks where they want to go, and Josslyn says, Niagara Falls. Oscar has never been there, and the weekend is coming up. Cameron could drive them. Carly asks if it would be like a double date, but Josslyn says Cameron and Trina are just friends. Carly isn’t comfortable with it. Josslyn says they’re not spending the night, since with a junior license, Cameron has to be back by midnight.

Cameron says, Franco admitted he did it? but Drew says, all he did was plead guilty. Elizabeth says she doesn’t know why; he didn’t tell her, but she knows in her heart Franco is innocent. Cameron says if she believes that, she’s completely lost her mind.

Ryan tells Ava that they’re so close to living the life they want, where they can put the pain behind them. He needs her to believe that. She says the pain of losing her daughter will never be behind her. He knows she’s been disappointed by people, but he’s not one of them, and will prove it. He takes her hand, and asks her to marry him.

Curtis takes Lulu to the hospital. Sonny sees them, and asks if she’s okay. She says she was just lightheaded; it was nothing. Curtis says, it was something. She passed out at the courthouse. Lulu says she wasn’t unconscious, but Curtis says she had no balance and no clear sense of where she was. She says Franco pled guilty, and she wasn’t expecting it. Sonny says, that sick SOB killed Kiki? Curtis says Lulu’s vitals are fine, and no one blames her if it was too much. She says, it wasn’t about what happened. She was prepared, but when they took Franco away, she had the overwhelming feeling something was very wrong.

Ava says Ryan isn’t serious, and he says, as a heart attack. She says, for starters, he’s already married. He says, technically. He’s not saying right this second. They have to get a permit. Um… I think it’s called a license. She says, it’s too soon after Kiki’s death. He tells her, the moment they connected, he knew what he’d been missing his entire life. He wants them to spend their lives together, here or on the other side of the world. He belongs to her, and hopes she feels the same way. He wants to be her husband. He feels more like a god when he treats her like the goddess she is. She says he’s already married to Laura, but he says, not for long.

Jordan takes Franco to Ferncliff. He changes into the regulation garb, is searched, and has his picture taken. He’s led to a cell, and the door closes loudly behind him.

Sam tells Jason, it’s starting to make sense. Daisy took the fall for sending her the emails, but there’s a big difference between harassment and murder. Jason says Shiloh is more of a threat than they originally thought. Sam says, then it’s more important than ever that she go with him.

Harmony tells Shiloh that his arrogance will be the downfall of them all. He’s not the only one who stands to lose if Jason keeps digging. He needs to leave Port Charles, lay low, and stay out of Jason’s way. Shiloh says she needs to go back to Beechers Corners like they agreed. As long as she keeps sending him updates, everything will be fine.

Jason tells Sam that they need to know what they’re dealing with. Sam says Shiloh has a history of manipulating women. He’s manipulated Kristina, and now he’s working on her. The sooner they get something criminal on him, the sooner they get Kristina out of there. Jason says he’ll be tailing her every step, and tells her to keep the cell phone GPS monitor on. They just found their way back to each other. He can’t risk losing her.

Harmony asks Shiloh what’s up with him and Sam? He says he finds her fascinating. Harmony asks what’s the real reason, and he says she has an Interest in the program. He thinks it’s time he takes her to the tower. She asks, why tempt fate? He says if he keeps Sam close, the more distant she’ll become with Jason. Harmony is concerned that once Jason is done with Shiloh, he’ll come after the rest of them. He says the students have to trust that their teacher knows what he’s doing. She hopes he does.

Carly tells Josslyn that Cameron isn’t an experienced driver. Josslyn says it will be during the day. Carly asks, what if there’s a storm or Oscar has a seizure? Josslyn says they’ll take him to the hospital or home. Carly asks if she ran it past Kim. Since there’s no answer on that, Carly says they weren’t planning on letting her know, were they?

Cameron says, now Franco confessed? but Elizabeth says, he didn’t do it. He asks if she’s listening to herself. Franco is saying he’s guilty, and she refuses to listen. She’s in a toxic relationship with a murderer, and she can’t see what it’s doing to them, taking him back over and over. She’s sick. Drew tells him not to talk to his mother that way. Cameron says Drew can’t talk to him that way. If she doesn’t care enough to tell his brothers the truth, he will. He storms out.

In Franco’s cell, Jordan asks how he’s holding up. He’s not sure, and tells her to check in a few days and see if he’s been drugged. She says he’ll be fine. He’s only there for a two-week evaluation. He tells her to ask Carly. A lot can happen in a short time. She says if anything does, she’ll make sure he gets an audience with the mayor. He says if they realize he’s not the one who attacked Lulu, it might put Elizabeth in the crosshairs.

Lulu asks if it’s weird that she only remembers part of the attack, and Curtis says, the mind protects you by choosing what you remember, and when. She wishes her brain would trust her more. She remembers Franco coming at her with the knife, but not how she got away. Curtis says, by Franco pleading guilty, there isn’t a trial. She won’t get to tell her story for the record. Lulu says that doesn’t mean she’s given up her voice. Robert joins them, and thanks Sonny for coming. Sonny thanks him for reaching out. He says he has sensitive information, but Sonny says he can talk in front of Lulu. Lulu asks if it’s about Dante. Did the Bureau find him?

Anna tells Cabot to open is eyes. He says, thank God, and Finn, for giving him back the gift of sight. Anna asks Cabot to tell her now how she contracted the virus that blinded them, how it’s connected to the DVX, and why her sister was involved? He says the last question is the easiest. Her sister was one of their subjects, and an ideal one. Anna asks, why? and he says, isn’t it obvious? Because she was Anna’s twin.

Anna asks if they were using Alex as a conduit to get to her. He says it wasn’t because Alex was her twin, but a twin. An identical twin. The initial study linked the physical and emotional reactions, and in some sets, they felt what the other was feeling, sharing both pain and joy. Finn says the studies aren’t legit, and Cabot says, not yet, but if the link exists, imagine the possibilities? Especially for those trained in diplomatic secrets. Finn says his first thought is always how a covert op can benefit from his work. Cabot says it’s worked for the enemy, and Anna was perfect for the study. Finn asks if this means he worked for the DVX. Anna thinks he’s lying.

Lulu knows Sonny asked Robert to find Dante. Robert says they tracked him to Turkey. There was a rumor Rog was working in the area, and Dante followed him.

Josslyn asks Carly, please be reasonable, then says, forget it. Carly says, hold on. How about if she and Sonny take off work for the weekend. They’ll drive to Niagara Falls, and stay there, the four of them. It will be a whole lot of fun. Josslyn thinks, that depends on your definition of fun. Carly says it’s her best offer. Cameron comes in, and Josslyn says they were just talking about him, but they’re definitely done. She takes Cameron out on the terrace, and says his timing couldn’t be more perfect. Her mom is being impossible. He asks if she wants to trade. His mom married a serial killer. Franco pled guilty, and admitted to the murders, but she’s too blind to realize she married a monster.

Elizabeth asks Drew, what if Cameron is right, and she’s lying to herself? Drew asks what her gut tells her. She says, the same thing as her heart. Franco didn’t kill anyone, and there’s a reason why he pled guilty. She hates that he didn’t trust her enough to tell her what’s going on. If they don’t have trust, what do they have? Drew asks, what’s next?

Franco tells Jordan that he wants 24-hour surveillance on Elizabeth and the boys. Jordan wonders whose pet she ran over in a former life to get this job. She would have to explain the real reason. Franco says, and if it leaks out, all this will be for nothing. She says as long as the killer is focused on him, he won’t focus on Elizabeth. When Franco takes credit for the killer’s work, he won’t be able resist.

Ryan tells Ava that Laura understands why the marriage has to end. She won’t stand in their way. The only people who can stand in their way are Ava and him, and it won’t be him. Ava says she’s never been married, and he tells her that she was just waiting for the right man. He knows he’s not on one knee, and can’t promise there will be no adversity, but whatever they face, he can promise they’ll face it together. What does she say?

Anna says if they believe Cabot, his study would require a set of twins. She never did a study. Cabot says, not willingly, but she did. She just doesn’t remember.

Lulu asks how they’re going to bring Dante home, and Robert says he’s working on it. That’s as much as he can tell her; sorry. She says, her too, and leaves. Sonny asks what Robert is saying, and Robert says, Dante has gone rogue. He’s acting as a private citizen, and the Bureau is hesitant to help. They don’t want to create an international incident. Sonny asks if Robert is planning to leave his son out in the cold.

On the phone with Olivia, Carly says nothing is wrong. She has a lot going on at home, and was hoping to go over the calendar.

Cameron tells Josslyn that Franco confessed to everything, and his mom is in complete denial. He couldn’t be a part of her standing by that psycho no matter how his brothers get hurt. He had to get out. Josslyn says she does too. She suggests they leave for their trip tomorrow. What does he say?

Elizabeth tells Drew that she has no idea what this means for their marriage. They agreed no more secrets – ever. Drew doesn’t know how realistic that is. Everyone keeps secrets, even with the best intentions. He’s sure Franco has a good reason. She says, he’d better. Drew says it sounds like she’s not giving up. She knows with everything in her that he’s innocent, and she’s going to continue to fight for him. He says, it has to be rough, but she says she’s ready. He thought maybe she might want the rings that she left behind. He puts them on the table. She says, maybe. Not right now, but hopefully soon she’ll be ready to put them back on. He puts on his coat, and asks fi she’s okay. She nods.

Franco asks Jordan, how is she so sure the killer won’t be thrilled, and get on with his life? She says, he needs the spotlight. Pleading guilty is one thing, but taking credit for his genius and ingenuity, and stepping into the spotlight he’s created? He won’t like it. Franco asks how he’s going to steal the spotlight.

Ava says Ryan is insane. He says he’s been called worse. She says, what the hell? Let’s do it. They kiss.

Jason tells Sam that he’ll know where she is at all times. If anything goes wrong, he’ll be there. Sam’s phone rings. She says, it’s him. Shiloh asks where she is, and she says she’s just getting home. He’s figuring they should meet at the MetroCourt, and go from there. She says it’s going to be dark out by the time they get there. Is he sure he wants to go tonight? He says, absolutely sure. Is she having second thoughts? She says she’s excited to see it; whatever it is. He says it’s going to change her life.

Tomorrow, Franco says he’s telling Elizabeth the truth, Laura yells for help, and Jason says they have to make sure Shiloh isn’t playing Sam.

🎥 Sorry. No Top Chef tonight. I’m still sick, and I’m hoping to be in dreamland by the time the rerun is on. At 8 pm, Dr. Phil won out with Instagram personalities (debatable) whose lives were being ruined by social media. Actual Instagram personality Amanda Cerny joined them via SKYPE, and hit the nail on the head by pointing out the problem was they had no lives outside of social media. One guy was very sweet and seemed to already understand his issues, but another guest was a horrifying girl who put the narcissist in narcissist, and claimed she would be dead without social media. She also said, no offense, but old people are ugly. Dr. Phil asked how he wasn’t supposed to take offense to that, and she said – because I said no offense. Clearly, she overestimates the power of her words, and I can’t wait for her to get old.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Marcus tells Sonny that he has nothing to say to him. Sonny says they both just want what’s best for Yvonne and Mike. They can’t make decisions for themselves anymore.

Mike wants to go to Turning Woods, but Stella warns him things might be different. He asks if she’s referring to the guy who says he’s Yvonne’s husband. He wants to take her away, but Sonny left to stop him. Mike wonders, what if he’s too late?

Curtis meets Jordan at the station. She thanks him for coming. He asks if she has any new leads on the murder, and she says, murders, plural. He’s always been her favorite person to bounce ideas off of. He tells her, they make a good team. She says there are three victims. The only thing they have in common is the killer. She needs a breakthrough.

Maxie and Nina arrive for the self-defense class Chase is teaching. Elizabeth walks in, and wonders if it will be just the three of them. Under her breath, Nina mutters that she hopes not. Willow comes in.

A town hall meeting is being held at Charlie’s. Laura thanks Julian for hosting. He says any exposure is never a bad thing. Maybe he’ll gain new customers. Lulu says maybe they’ll gain new voters. She wonders if the serial killer might deter people from coming, but Laura says, there’s comfort in being together; there’s strength in numbers. Not-Doc arrives, and says, absolutely. The killer doesn’t stand a chance. Lulu tells him if he came to make a scene, turn around now. He tells her, stand down. He was just getting coffee, and then he’ll leave. Laura says, that’s not necessary. He’s a member of the community, and always welcome. Ned tells Laura, bring it on. She says she plans to.

Julian sets up a podium, and introduces himself. He’s proud to host the meeting, and reminds them the election is just one day away. He turns the meeting over to Lulu. Lulu says she’s Laura’s daughter, and also her biggest supporter, but she’s not incapable of being fair and unbiased. She’ll try her hardest to be both. Ned tells everyone that he and Laura agreed. As long as Lulu doesn’t cut him off or mute his mic, they’ll be okay. Laura points out that he doesn’t have a mic. Lulu asks for questions.

A woman named Wendy gets up. She says she lives downtown, and asks what the candidates will do to bring more diversity among the staff appointees. As the current mayor, Ned goes first.

Chase says they’ll be getting started in a few minutes, and tells Willow it’s good to see her. Nina introduces Maxie to her as Charlotte’s teacher. Willow and Maxie talk about leggings. Elizabeth asks if Willow has done this before. She says, no, but thought it was time. Nina pulls Maxie aside, and asks why she’s being nice to Willow. Maxie says, why not? Lulu says she’s great. Nina says, of course she would, and walks away. Maxie wonders what she missed.

Curtis looks at the bulletin board Jordan has set up, and says she’s been busy. Jordan says the first order of business is to squash panic. Curtis says, easier said than done. She says Chase is teaching self-defense classes, the FBI has given them their full resources, and the state police have stepped up their presence. Curtis says she has everything under control, and she says, everything except a suspect. Where to begin? Curtis says, if Doc is right, it begins with them.

Stella tells Mike, whatever his experience with Marcus is, he’s a decent, loving man. Mike would be more inclined to believe that if Marcus wasn’t keeping him and Yvonne apart. They’re not children. They know what they need, and what they need most is each other. Stella says, it’s a blessing to find someone who makes you happy, no matter how late in life. Mike says the real blessing is that he makes her happy. Why can’t Marcus see that?

Marcus says it’s different for Sonny. He brings his father for the day, and takes him home. He sees Yvonne during visiting hours, and might as well be a stranger. Sonny says he’s sorry, but Marcus isn’t asking for pity. In sickness or in health is what they vowed, but he didn’t promise to give her a Christmas present from a man she’s only known a few months. Sonny says Stella calls them coping partners. They help each other in ways the two of them can’t. He didn’t want his father there. He wanted him home, but Mike insisted. Marcus asks, why? Sonny thinks Mike felt it was the next step, and he was afraid to take it until he met Yvonne. Then the place became okay. He believes Mike is helping Yvonne too. Marcus says, for the last few weeks. They’ve been married thirty years. This is just a blip; short term. Sonny says, being honest, short term is all they have.

Sonny tells Marcus, this disease is son of a bitch. He used to hold his breath when he’s see his dad, wondering if Mike would recognize him. Marcus says it’s hard the first time they don’t, and Sonny says he’ll never forget it. He suggests Marcus not have expectations. One day his father knows him, the next day he doesn’t. Marcus asks how Sonny let go. Yvonne walks in, wondering where Mike is. Marcus tells her that Stella is looking out for him. She asks who Marcus is, and he says he’s her husband. She says she doesn’t have one. He tells her it’s okay if she doesn’t remember; he does. Where they met, how they fell in love and married. Sonny slips out, and Yvonne demands Mike.

Mike asks Stella if she’s ever felt really needed by someone. Stella would like to think her nephews needed her, and there are the people she helps with her social work. Mike means someone special who really loves you romantically, and you love them back. Stella thought she did, a long time ago. He asks, what happened? and she says, hasn’t she told him? He says, if she did, it doesn’t a ring bell. Not much does lately. She tells him, life happened. She made a choice, and before she knew it, that part of life passed her by and it was too late.

Willow asks Elizabeth how Aiden is doing. Nina says, Charlotte is doing great; thanks for asking. Elizabeth says, she’s not the one who was being bullied. Nina says, Charlotte apologized, and Elizabeth says they appreciate it. Nina says it could have been nipped in the bud early on, but Elizabeth thinks it’s not the teaching, but the parenting, and she’s not blaming Lulu. Nina says that leaves her and Valentin. Maxie encourages Chase to start the class, and he tells them, time to focus – on the class. Chase says they’re here to defend their safety, and that of their loved ones. He can’t discuss the ongoing case, so the best they can do is put everything aside and get going. Maxie is the only one who’s enthusiastic.

Jordan wonders if someone is trying to impress them. Curtis says, like a cat leaving a dead mouse and expecting a reward. She says they’ve been in attendance at all the events, but Curtis says, not just them. He wants to make a list, but Jordan is ahead of him. He looks at her list, and says one name jumps out. Jordan says, Laura. She was in all three places. Curtis says, clearly, she’s not the murderer. Jordan suggests the killer knows her. Curtis says, or she knows them and doesn’t realize it.

Ned says his staff isn’t the most diverse. They’re mostly white males, but not by design. They’re pivotal economic players he’s worked with for years and trusts implicitly. And his trust isn’t misplaced. They brought the city back, and it’s thriving. Laura says it’s true they did a fabulous job, and stepped up in wake of the earthquake, but it’s a closed circle. The problem is, they only work with the people they know. She wants to widen the circle, and if elected, will bring in people from different backgrounds.

Chase tells the group to always carry flashlight. Nina and Elizabeth bicker. Nina accuses Elizabeth of coddling her son. Chase gets louder, trying to talk over them. Willow tells Nina that she doesn’t think that’s what’s going on, and Nina says it could have been avoided. Chase asks for volunteers, but no one gets up. He asks Willow to help demonstrate the bear hug, and how get out of it. She thanks him, since she was about to tell a mother where to shove her opinion.

Sonny returns, and Mike asks if he told Marcus not to take Yvonne. Stella asks Mike to get their coats. Sonny tells her that he talked to Marcus, but he doesn’t know how much luck he had. Yvonne showed up, and asked for his dad. He’s concerned about taking Mike back, and Yvonne not being there. Stella thinks the sooner he gets there, the sooner he can make new friends.

Jordan says, Alexis, Lulu, Chase, and Curtis says, a lawyer, a journalist, and a cop. Jordan says the killer likes to make a display in the most public manner. Curtis says, the deeper they dig, the less he’s thinking it’s about the two of them. Jordan agrees, and says the only thing in common is the missing driver’s licenses. There’s one other thing though. More specifically, one other person – Ryan Chamberlain.

At the meeting, Daryl gets up. He lives in the Charles Street district. He asks if Ned thinks his background as a businessman is a positive or a negative. Like Ned might say, negative. Ned thinks economics drive everything. New business raises the standard of living and property values. If they don’t have businesses, nothing else works. Lulu asks if Laura wants to add anything. Laura admires Ned as a businessman, but says government can’t be run like a business. It’s not for profit. It should be people coming together to decide how to best serve the public’s needs. Money is a factor, but not everything. Nor should it be. Everyone applauds. Not-Doc raises his hand, saying he has more of a statement than a question. He thinks it’s high time he made his intentions known.

Nina says the class is about owning their power, not worrying about if what might have been said is hurtful. Elizabeth says it is hurtful, and Maxie wonders how they expect their kids to get along if they can’t. Nina says she’s teaching Charlotte not to hold herself back. Elizabeth says she can do what she wants, but not with her son. Chase calls up Nina, who tells him, so far, it’s been very informative.

Not-Doc says it’s no secret his marriage is ending, but he has nothing but boundless respect and admiration for Laura. She gives selflessly to both her family and community. Ned is a fine man, but when it comes to the future of their city, it will be his honor to vote for Laura. He hopes they all do the same. Laura says it’s a lovely gesture, and she’d like to return it. If elected, she’ll become an advocate for mental health. She’s already made a tour of Ferncliff, and will do more. What’s the point of an influential position, if you can’t throw the spotlight on conditions that need it? She wants to be visible, and use her visibility for good.

Jordan tells Curtis the third victim was making a documentary about Ryan. He wonders if it’s a copycat, and she says anything is possible. She reminds him of another case they worked on, where all signs pointed to a mugging, but it turned out to be an insurance situation. Red herrings everywhere. She thinks it might be the same, where it seems to be one thing, but it’s another. She gets a call from forensics, and tells Curtis there hasn’t been a single trace of the documentary found. Curtis says they’re trying to remove any mention of Ryan. They’re not trying to repeat the murders, but top them. The killer is competing with a ghost. Jordan has all the Ryan Chamberlain files, and says, it’s time to bring the ghost back to life.

At Turning Woods, Mike can’t wait see his girl, but Sonny says it might not be possible. Yvonne and Marcus walk in. Mike guesses they should say their goodbyes, but Marcus says, no goodbyes. Mike wonders about the luggage, and Marcus says he was set to take her home, but spoke to Mike’s son. Or rather Mike’s son spoke to him. He said, when you love someone, you do the far better thing. Yvonne isn’t leaving. Sonny smiles. Marcus, not so much.

Mike gives Stella her gift, a big soft scarf. Marcus tells Stella that he wishes she’d known Yvonne before the Alzheimer’s. She would have loved her. Stella knows she would have; Marcus married her. She must have been an incredible woman. He says he used to see glimpses. The doctor warned him that he would lose her, but it’s one thing to hear it, and another to live it. Well-meaning people with well-meaning advice aren’t worth a damn. Mike tells Stella, it’s for cold winter nights, and puts the scarf on her. He tells her, Merry Christmas, and they hug.

Curtis tells Jordan it might be easier to resurrect a ghost than pour through the records. She knows there’s a link. Something in there links to that terrible bastard. She says, wait, and he asks what she found. She says it’s what she didn’t find.

Chase shows Maxie how to shake him, and strike palm to nose. He tells them practice with partners. Maxie tells him she needs to get back to the others before they start pulling hair. Chase laughs, and she tells him, it’s not funny. She might have to consider homeschooling. He shows her another move. He tells the class, it’s one thing be prepared, but if you’re not scared, you’re not paying attention. That doesn’t mean they’re a victim though. Make it nasty. Focus on eyes, ears, knees. Nina says, and the family jewels. Chase asks, who wants go first? This time, it’s everyone.

Lulu thanks everyone, and the meeting breaks up. Ned tells Laura, may the best man or woman win. Lulu says she was awesome; she had them eating out of her hand. She’s proud. Laura thanks not-Doc for the endorsement, and he says he meant every word. She says, so did she. If elected, Ferncliff, and every place like it, is on her list. Lulu has to get back to the office, and Laura needs to meet Sonny at the gym. Not-Doc watches them leave, and follows.

Chase says that’s all the time they have. Maxie asks if they’re seriously ready to kick predator ass, and he tells her that he wouldn’t mess with any of them. He tells the class, same place same time next week. Maxie tells Nina that she needs to keep as far away from Elizabeth as possible. Nina replies that Elizabeth said she has no restraint. Maxie says she doesn’t. Willow tells Chase, it was empowering; she enjoyed it. Chase asks if they could maybe go on real date soon, and she says, how about now? After all that drama, she could use a drink. He says, there was drama?

Marcus tells Stella that he owes her an apology. She asks, what for? and he says when she tried to intercede for Yvonne, he lashed out. He’s said she gave up the right to an opinion on his life a long time ago. She says, it’s true, but he says he wanted her to hurt the way he was hurting. It was unfair. She says, none of this is fair. She knows he was doing what he thought best. He says Stella always does, but part of him will always wonder what would have happened if he’s taken Yvonne home.

Mike introduces Sonny to Yvonne. She loves his dimples, and Mike says, everybody does. Sonny tells Yvonne that his father thinks the world of her. Yvonne says, the world is a big place, but Mike says, not really. If you’re lucky, you can hold her in the palm of your hand.

Jordan asks what’s missing from Ryan’s victim? and Curtis says, no driver’s license. Is it something he did? She says it’s not listed in any files, and he says, it could be a coincidence. They keep looking. Jordan says, no license… no license. Curtis says, nothing here either. Twenty-five years ago, Ryan took a trophy. Jordan asks, how did the killer know if the police didn’t?

Laura goes to the gym looking for Sonny. Not-Doc is in the shadows. He walks up behind her while she’s busy on her phone.

In loving memory of Donna Messina, 1959 – 2018.

On Monday, Julian says he and Kim agree the relationship is over, not-Doc says there’s been something he’s been wanting to say to Laura, and Jason is more interested in Shiloh’s life before he was Shiloh.

😪 Still Mourning Z Nation, But…

I love any show that Gordon Ramsay bleepity-bleeps his way through, and I was finally able to catch the latest – eighteenth! – season of Hell’s Kitchen. Keeping it fresh, this time, it was Rookies vs Veterans. Tonight, the restaurant was transformed by Italian décor, and a five-course Italian menu was served in honor of the supporters of St. Jude and the Waterkeeper Alliance. Before the dinner, the red (dudes) and blue (dudettes) teams did a blindfold taste-test. A chef from each team was given a tiny ice cream cone, and had to guess the ice cream flavor – everything from tomato to jalapeno. The ladies won by a landslide, but the best part was, when an incorrect guess was made, a member of that team had to be pelted with spaghetti, doused with sauce, or have cheese grated over them. The reactions went from merriment to horror to anger. There were several actors at the dinner. No one super famous – Chad Lowe was probably the most recognizable name – but I noticed Parker Young from The Imposters, another show I loved and lost. The red team just did not do well overall, and at one point, Gordon had to take over in the kitchen. As one contestant said, When Chef Ramsay has to cook for you, you know you screwed up. At the end of service, he told the red team to piss off. Jose got sent home, with tears in his eyes, and Gordon got to tell the remaining red team members to piss off a second time at elimination.

🐀 If, like me, you can’t get enough Gordon, 24 Hours to Hell and Back will be on Wednesday, January 9th, at 8 pm. In the preview, we saw someone in the kitchen taste the food, and then spit it back into the pot. I don’t know if it gets much nastier.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Someone bangs on Ava’s door. Not-Doc says he doesn’t suppose ignoring it is an option. She tells him the world has a way of intruding when it’s least convenient. He says, let them wait, and kisses her. She opens the door to find Griff.

Anna tells Britt to keep Obrecht on the phone as long as possible. She needs to trace the call. Britt is surprised that with technology like caller ID, you still have to keep someone on the phone. Anna thinks once Obrecht starts talking, she won’t shut up. Britt is miserable and says Finn literally made her sick. She asks if this is really that important. Anna says Obrecht helped Faison keep her daughter prisoner for years, and tortured and nearly killed her son. It’s that important. Britt says, even if means killing her?

Maxie thanks Peter for bringing her home. He says whoever killed Kiki is still out there, and asks if she’s sure she wants to be alone.

Alexis comes into Charlie’s. She tells Julian that she knows they’re closed, but she can get it to go. He says she’s there for the pumpkin cheesecake, right? She asks if there’s any left, and he tells her. have a seat.

Carly tells Sonny that Josslyn is asleep. After the bomb that dropped, she thought Josslyn would be up all night. She wishes she could take the pain away. She got Avery into her PJs, and she was out like a light. Sonny says, Ava never called to cancel, and wonders what she was thinking. Carly says, like always, about herself. Ava doesn’t deserve the two daughters she has.

Jordan tells Curtis the killer moved the body. She’s hoping they can catch a break. Curtis asks if there are any leads, and she says, Chase found something in Griff’s apartment that they need to talk to him about.

Ava tells Griff that Kiki already approached her about the Sasha situation, but he tells her that she needs to listen. She says Kiki wrote her off, and she surrenders. When her happily ever after crashes down, Ava will be there ready to be her mother. Griff says something horrible happened. Kiki is gone. She asks what he means. She dumped him? She finally came to her senses. He tells her, Kiki is dead.

Jordan says Griff isn’t at his or Kiki’s apartment. Curtis says, so he ran. Jordan thinks if he’s not in either of those places, he might be right.

Ava asks what Griff said, and he says he’s so sorry. She smacks him, saying, all the lies. He wishes it wasn’t true. She says, it can’t be true. Not-Doc asks what happened. Was there an accident? Griff says, not an accident. Ava says, that’s the only explanation. Griff says, she was murdered. Ava says, not her daughter, and tells not-Doc that since he’s a psychiatrist, he can tell when someone is lying. Not-Doc tells her, sorry, but he thinks Griff believes he’s telling the truth. She says, then he’s wrong too. He asks where she is, and Griff says her body was found on the Haunted Star.

Alexis eats, and says, so good. It looks good. She asks Julian to help her. She doesn’t want to finish by herself. He says, twist his arm, and sits. She asks how his first Quartermaine Thanksgiving was. A disaster? He says, mishap maybe. He wouldn’t call it a disaster. He knew she had something up her sleeve with Oscar, but she says her efforts paled in comparison to young love. Josslyn had more to do with it than she did.

Britt says she thought Finn infected her with the common cold. Finn says, with enhancements. She feels like she’s going to die, and he says everyone who gets it feels like that, but she won’t. She might even end up being stronger. Britt coughs, and Anna tells her, stop complaining. It’s a small price to pay. Britt doesn’t know if she can do it, and Anna says, fine. Then the whole deal is off the table, and she goes back to Pentonville. Finn tells her that he won’t be able to treat her there, but the virus should run its course in six months. She says, it’s blackmail, and asks Anna, what’s next? Anna says she’s already put out a media story. She might have exaggerated, saying Britt was on the brink of death. Britt is sure Obrecht has seen the story. She has an alert on Britt’s name. Finn says, that’s a thing? and Britt tells him, it’s not even a new thing. Britt asks how long the story has been out, and Anna says since yesterday. Britt wonders why Obrecht hasn’t she called yet, and Anna says maybe she overestimated Obrecht’s maternal instincts. Britt hates to say it, but that’s entirely possible. The bright side is, if she doesn’t call, Britt doesn’t have to worry about helping turn her in. Anna says, but if she does, Britt is one step closer to freedom. If she warns Obrecht, she’ll be back in the laundry room. Britt coughs some more.

At the nurses’ station, Finn looks at his phone. Anna asks if he’s setting up an alert for himself. He doesn’t say anything, and she asks if he got a text from Hayden about where to meet in Rome? He puts his phone in his pocket. She says he doesn’t have to hide anything, and she asks again if Hayden texted him. He admits she did. Anna asks if it’s about meeting at the Spanish Steps, and he tells her they were paid for by the French. Anna asks when she wants meet, and he says, the day after tomorrow. How does she feel about throwing coins in the Trevi fountain with him?

Julian tells Alexis that it was great spending time with Leo. She asks about the downside, and he says Kim asked him to do something. He said he would, and she found out he didn’t mean it. Alexis is feeling some déjà vu, but he says he disappointed Kim in the opposite way he disappointed her. All the times she asked him to leave the mob and he didn’t… He asks if she’s his lawyer now. She tells him, for the sake of this conversation, and he says Kim asked him to do something outside the boundaries of the law. As much as he wanted to make her happy, he knew it would make things worse between her and Oscar. Alexis asks if Kim is mad at him, and he says the one time he does the right thing. Alexis is proud of him. He asks how her Thanksgiving rated, and she says it was the best of the last three. She was only fired by an adolescent. Julian says, victory comes in all shapes and sizes. She says last year she got blowback from the girls about the press conference, and two years ago, she got drunk and ran Julian over with her car. He says, good times… He gets a call from Griff, and says, say that again.

Chase tells Jordan that the teams checked Kiki and Griff’s apartments. They found the broken vase, and at first glance, it was the only sign of a struggle. Ava storms in, and asks, what the hell is going on? Griff made an insane claim that she knows isn’t true. Not-Doc hides the cuff of his sleeve; it has blood on it. Ava wants to see her daughter. Kiki’s body is brought out in a bag on a gurney.

Anna says Finn is asking her to go to Rome when she’s on a manhunt, and he says, Rome waits for no one. She’s not abandoning looking for Obrecht, unless he wants three of them throwing coins in the fountain. He says he has no plans and no expectations, but would feel better If she was with him. The phone in Britt’s room rings. Anna dashes in, and puts on headphones. Britt answers. On a terrace, in what we assume is a foreign country, a dude says he’s looking for Dr. Westbourne, and Britt says that’s her. He asks when she last saw her mother, and she thinks it was when she told Patrick the truth about Ben. He puts Obrecht on the phone. Obrecht asks Britt to forgive her. She didn’t want anyone there to identify her. She asks if Britt is colluding with Anna to trap her, and if her own daughter is setting her up.

Peter tells Maxie, when he was growing up, family was an abstract concept that happened to other people. Now he knows who his mother is, and understands why she gave him up. Maxie asks if he forgives her, and he says he doesn’t think he hates her. Maxie says, baby steps. He has so much regret about not getting to know Nathan. Maxie says Faison killed Nathan, not him. He’s a decent guy. If Obrecht had succeeded in killing him, he wouldn’t be there to make sure she got home safe. She wins.

Alexis asks Julian what Griff wanted. Julian tells her that he said Kiki is dead. She was murdered. His niece was stabbed to death. Alexis says, oh my God; who would do that to her? Julian says Griff didn’t tell, and he didn’t ask. He says, Ava, and Alexis tells him to go; Ava needs him. He doesn’t know if he can do this right now, and she says he doesn’t have to do it alone.

Ava says that’s not her daughter; she’ll show them. She unzips the bag, saying, not her daughter. Not-Doc watches dispassionately. She sees Kiki, and tells her, wake up. Griff looks sick. Ava tells Kiki to listen to her mother. She knows Kiki wanted to teach her a lesson. She got it. She learned it. She tells Kiki to get up; open her eyes and sit up. She starts to cry, and wails, no! She weeps over the body.

Maxie wants to make a toast. Peter says, to today. Maxie says it’s all they have; live it for what it’s worth. She tells Peter find something to make him smile each day. If he succeeds, find two more things. Otherwise, he’ll live with regret, and no memories to cherish. He leans in for a kiss. She does too.

Britt tells Obrecht that Anna is there. She’s tracing the call and recording it. Obrecht asks how Britt could betray her, and Britt says, Anna is standing next to James Bond, Jason Borne, and Perry Mason. Did Obrecht think she’s cooperate after what they’ve done to her? And she’s one of three people who actually cares about Britt. Obrecht says she can’t be too careful. Anna is relentless. Britt wonders why Obrecht hasn’t asked how she is, and Obrecht says she knows Britt isn’t ill. If she’s not cooperating, she must be running her own scam. Britt says she’s sick, and starts hacking. Obrecht says she does sound terrible. Britt tells Obrecht that she’s in prison. It’s not a super-healthy environment. Obrecht asks, what’s wrong? and Britt says, they don’t know. Obrecht says they’re incompetent, and Britt says she’s in pain, and they enjoy watching it. Obrecht asks who her doctor is, and Britt says, Finn. Obrecht calls him a schweinhund, and says he has it out for her. Britt begs her to come.

Outside, Hayden texts Finn, asking him to please come. She’s made so many mistakes, and one of them was leaving him.

Not-Doc leads Ava away. He tells her to sit. She’s in shock, but needs to breathe. The body bag is zipped back up. Chase needs to ask Griff some questions. Griff says he spoke to the commissioner, but Jordan says they have to talk again. She asks when he last saw Kiki alive, and he says at the apartment. They spent the morning together. They were supposed to go to the wedding, but got a late start because she was so beautiful. They kissed, and one thing led to another. He got a call from Monica that a decision had been reached about his suspension, and there was a letter at the hospital for him.

Julian comes in, asking, what happened? Not-Doc tells him that Griff showed up at Ava’s with the news. Beyond that, they know nothing. Carly calls, and not-Doc answers. She asks if she called his number, but he says she dialed Ava. Carly asks if she’s there, and not-Doc says she is, but can’t speak. Carly asks if he can give her a message. She’s three hours late, and Avery is asleep. She’ll have to wait until morning. Not-Doc says Ava is late because her other daughter is dead. She was murdered. He ends the call.

Griff says he told them everything. Chase asks him to tell the commissioner how this ended up in his apartment. He takes out a plastic bag with a bloody knife in it.

Sonny asks if Carly reached Ava. She says she tried; Doc answered. Sonny asks, why? and she says, Kiki’s dead. She was murdered. Sonny wonders, who would do that to her? It doesn’t make any sense. While murder often doesn’t make sense, I’m wondering why they’re all jumping to the conclusion that it’s personal instead of something random.

Ava watches Griff. Griff ask Chase what that is. Chase says, a knife from his butcher block. Griff’s prints will no doubt be on it; will anyone else’s? Chase is waiting on the lab report, and tells Griff, it was wrapped in a towel, and tucked away in a closet. Ava suddenly goes nuts, calling Griff a murderer and asking, why?

Peter and Maxie are about to kiss, when the baby cries. Maxie says she has to check on the baby. Peter says he’s sorry; he shouldn’t have. She says her either.

Britt tells Obrecht, please, she has to come. Obrecht tells her to calm herself. Britt says she doesn’t want die there – or in prison. Obrecht says, don’t tell anyone she said this, but Dr. Finn is an exceptional doctor. Britt says, he’s too by book. She needs a revolutionary thinker. She needs Obrecht to come. Obrecht says she would if she could, but Finn won’t fail her. Britt asks what if she dies, and doesn’t get the chance to see her Mutter again. Britt hears something that sounds like an explosion in the background, and Obrecht says it’s a local ritual they inflict on them every evening. She has to go. Someone could trace the call. Obrecht says, goodbye, and Britt asks Anna if she kept her on long enough. Anna says she was calling from a scrambled line anyway. It doesn’t matter. Anna knows where she is.

Finn asks Anna if she had any luck. She says she couldn’t trace the call, but knows where Obrecht is; Havana. If she tries to arrest Obrecht, it could cause an international incident. Finn asks, when do they go? and Anna says, they don’t.

Julian says he’ll take Ava home, but Ava asks not-Doc to take her. He tells Julian that he’ll take good care of her. Julian asks Alexis, what the hell was that? and she says Julian can trust him. She’s truly sorry about Kiki. Julian says, him too. Sorrier than he can say. She was a great kid.

Jordan asks if Griff is okay. He guesses he is. Chase wants to get back to the knife. Chase’s phone rings, and he steps away. Griff says they were together all morning, until Monica called about the ruling on his suspension. Jordan asks if anyone saw them, and he says, no. She says, so there’s no one who can verify they were together. Alexis appears, and says he’s under no obligation to talk. He says he doesn’t know how the knife got there. All he knows is that he didn’t do it – or kill Kiki. Chase says the lab tests came back. The blood on the knife is Kiki’s blood.

Anna says she’s heading to Cuba, and Finn is going to Rome. He says, so much for being a team. Fighting bad guys and getting kidnapped was kind of their thing. She thinks it’s an excuse not to deal with Hayden. The longer he keeps avoiding her, the longer it will feel like an unresolved situation for the both of them. He doesn’t know what there is to resolve. She tells him, go to Rome. Settle things. She’ll go to Cuba, and figure out how to keep Obrecht away from her son.

Maxie tells Peter that James is fine. He says, what about them? and she tells him, pretend it never happened. He thinks he should get going, and she thinks that’s a good idea. He asks if she’s sure. The killer is still out there. She says she’ll sleep with her cell phone next to her. He’s sorry for what never happened. He leaves. She closes the door, and they stand on opposite sides with their backs to the wall. Peter sits down in the hallway.

Carly remembers seeing Kiki at Morgan’s memorial service. They were letting the lanterns go, and Kiki was watching. She looked so beautiful, and Carly remembers thinking how much Morgan loved her, and how happy he’d be that she was in med school. She had so much to look forward to. Sonny says, two beautiful people with bright futures, now gone.

Not-Doc gives Ava a drink. She leans on him.

Julian asks Alexis why she’s intervening. Alexis says, Griff has rights, and he’s too distraught to know what he’s saying. Julian says, or faking. He could be the murderer. Alexis thinks if Julian puts aside his dislike for Griff, he won’t believe it. Either way, he has the right to a competent defense. Julian says, he’s going to need it. Chase arrests Griff. Curtis watches as Chase reads Griff his rights.

Tomorrow, Terry asks if Oscar is ready for the trial, Anna says it’s not a random act, and Scotty tells Franco about Kiki.

The Shahs of Sunset – The Reunion, Part Two

GG has a smoke in the parking lot. She goes back inside.

Tommy didn’t want to tell Vida like this. He wanted to tell her the other night when they were out for her birthday. He shows her a video the sonogram. She congratulates them. They listen to the heartbeat. Vida says, soon MJ will be a mommy and she’ll be a grandma. Tommy says they haven’t told anyone. She doesn’t think they should say anything today. With so much going on, their news will be secondary. MJ wants to do it when everyone is together, and Vida suggests inviting them over. MJ wants to do it now, and Vida says she never agrees with anything. The break is over.

Andy goes to see GG. She says she doesn’t know how to fight back like that anymore. He says they’re concerned she’s smoking too much pot. She says Shalom was involved, and he asks if she feels like they’re conspiring against her with Shalom. She says it hurts her to react, and they see Lochnessa is still there. He thinks she should get dressed and come back, but leaves it with her.

MJ says it’s about courage – balls and courage – and vulnerability is a courage not everyone has. Nema says GG chose to villainize him, and got nasty on group chats. She said she was going to screw him in the ass with his sister’s hand. Yep. We see it, and she said that. He says he was talking with Mike, and she just chimed in. God bless them doing this for seven years, but you don’t talk about his family.

GG comes back out, and wants to sit where she has space. Mike moves over. Andy asks if there’s anything specific she wants to say, or does she just want to ease back in. She wants to ease. Andy says she expressed that she thinks the others believe they’ll win if they push and poke her, and she reacts. Reza says they want her to be open and honest. He doesn’t want her to physically attack anyone. He just wants her to use her words. Her stories don’t add up, and there’s always a legal excuse for why she can’t open up.

Andy says Destiney is a professional party planner, and the Shahs’ voice of reason. A viewer noticed that this season, Destiney’s friendships strengthened, especially with MJ and Reza. She says she feels closest to them. She starts getting choked up, saying she’s grateful for her connection with Reza. No one has ever seen a father that’s tangible for her, and it made them form the deepest connection. She thanks Reza. She can tell MJ things like a sister. How GG reacted to her earlier though, was on another level, nd has her questioning what they had. She was checking up on GG, and gets that she felt uncomfortable like she was being cornered. We flash back to that. Destiney says she thanks God that she’s a nice person and cares about people. GG thanks Go  for anger management, and that seh doesn’t punch people. Destiney can’t.

A viewer thinks Destiney is too picky, and asks what she has against uncircumcised penises. She says they’re prettier. MJ asks for a show of hands. Andy says, it depends, and Reza agrees, saying it can go either way. Andy asks if Destiney is dating anyone, and she’s dating three guys, one of them Persian. Andy asks Mike if he outted Destiney on Jeff Lewis’s radio show. He said think maybe Destiney likes women, and that’s why she’s so hard on men. Oh. He’s one of those people who think that must be the only reason you don’t want what they think you should. Andy says they have the clip, so we see that. In the clip, Mike claims he has good gaydar, and says Destiney touches him inappropriately, but she needs to be true to herself. If he was a woman, he’d be a lesbian. Destiney says if she’s not giving him attention, she’s a lesbian; but if she does touch him, it’s inappropriate. Reza says Mike told him to help her, like he’s the closet attendant. He thinks Mike is delusional. If a woman doesn’t like him, she’s crazy, married, or a lesbian. Mike says he loves the gay community, and helps gay Persian youth with their families. He was just trying to help. Destiney tells him he’s crazy in Farsi.

Andy says the most important relationship in Destiney’s life was the one that’s missing. We flash back to her meeting with PI Monique. Andy asks if there’s any update, and she says, no; it’s sad, and cries. Andy says her father could end up seeing the show, and asks what she’d want to say to him. She just wants to know he’s okay. She never dealt with this pain, and kept it inside. Andy asks how her mom and sisters feel, and she says it’s painful and hard.

Moving on. Before MJ walked down the aisle in white, wanted to blackout at her bachelorette party in Vegas. Andy says, every little girl dreams of Vegas for her bachelorette party. He tells MJ that her outfits elicited extreme reaction. He reads some comments from people mostly saying she should put more clothes on. He asks if she’s surprised, and she says, no, but their advice would be like Vida advice. A viewer asks if they don’t realize it’s inevitable after all that drinking, they’ll get in a fight. Andy asks if it ever doesn’t happen. GG says if they weren’t real friends, they could party like that, but things become personal and they get passionate.

Andy asks Mike about Morgan. He says he wanted her to come to Vegas, then he didn’t. It was the last straw for her. She thought he wasn’t taking her seriously, and ended things. MJ says she thought she was in a serious relationship. Mike says it’s not that they weren’t, just because she hadn’t met his parents – yet. MJ tells him, don’t waste a good woman’s time. He says he wasn’t wasting her time. She’s young, and they had an understanding. Whatever that means. Andy asks why MJ attacked Mike. MJ says when she’s pressed, the truth oozes out. We flash back to her asking if Morgan knows he’s not marrying her, and that she didn’t marry someone and cheat on them. Andy asks if they’re able to forgive, and Mike apologizes. He didn’t want to slut shame her, and doesn’t think she’s a slut. Andy asks if Mike thought Reza really wouldn’t tell anyone. We see the clip where Reza told Shervin about Mike and Morgan breaking up. Mike says 80% of the time, he’ll keep a secret. A viewer asks if Reza is afraid he’ll lose the friendship. Reza says it didn’t involve shade, and he didn’t tell everyone. He felt unappreciated, and that’s when Mike got up. We flash back to Mike saying he’ll never trust Reza again, and Reza saying he was carrying the friendship. Reza says he was talking about how he was feeling. MJ asks if Mike’s break-up was CIA information, and Mike says he’d just gotten divorced from Jessica. She tells him, stop living in Jessicaland. GG thinks they need to learn boundaries. MJ says it’s not a big betrayal, and Mike was blowing it up. Reza says, if he wanted to be shady, he’d be honest about it. In that moment, he was literally looking out for Mike’s ass. Andy asks how Mike feels now about trusting Reza. Mike says he takes it to heart, but it’s fine now. They fight over dumb sh*t. Reza says the two most important people, the ones that make him happiest outside of Adam and his family, are Mike and MJ. He talks to them every day. They bust each other’s balls, but he loves them. Mike puts his arm around Reza. He says Reza helps fix him. He can be Mike’s best friend, or a snake whose venom kills with one bite. It would take a lot more to break up the friendship.

Andy introduces the newest member of the cast – Nema. He asks why Nema wanted to be on the show. Nema says the opportunity came up, and he was starting to relate to his culture as an adult. Andy says some viewers think he’s deep and unbothered, but others think he’s pursuing GG to get a spot on TV. Nema thinks GG thinks so. GG says she didn’t at first. He says it doesn’t faze him. He was interested, and why shouldn’t he pursue someone he’s interested in. Reza says he had a girlfriend at home. Nema says the relationship was ending, and Mike says it wasn’t over yet. Nema admits he went about it the wrong way. He says GG’s reputation preceeds her, but his judgement was based on their interaction. It wasn’t until after filming, she came at him on social media and group chats. Andy asks if he still pursued her when the cameras were off, and GG says he thought she felt the same way. She played with him a lot. She asks what his fight with her is. She never denied flirting with him. He says he has no fight with her, and that’s fine. A viewer asks about the shade Reza threw at Nema about his white Lexus. Reza explains that an older Asian lady neighbor, Mrs. Chang, drives the same car, but a better version. It’s like he borrowed Mrs. Chang’s daughter’s car. Nema says they love to take shots at his Persianity, and it’s frustrating. He’s not the norm for an orthodox Persian. Neither is Reza. He should be the first person to understand breaking stereotypes. Reza says if he talks about Nema’s Lexus, and he can’t handle it, they can’t be friends. With the sh*t that really matters, he has Nema’s back. Andy asks if Nema is overly sensitive because it’s a side he’s reclaiming. Reza apologizes. He says now that he knows it’s a hot button, ti won’t happen. Destiney says, just communicate.

Andy tells us that GG came in with new beginnings, but one heavy relationship still weighing on her finger. He asks what’s the status, and GG says Shalom won’t sign the divorce papers. They were only married seven weeks, and Andy wonders what the hold up is. GG says he wants the ring back. We flash back to the appraisal, where GG is told it’s worth $165K. Andy asks if she’s wearing it. She’s not, but she’s not giving it back or selling it either. Andy asks if she still loves him, and she says, no. He asks how the cannabis company is doing, and she says, really well. One viewer thought she was sampling too much product when she did the presentation. Andy asks how high she was, and she says she’s the same, all day, every day. Andy asks if the other Shahs think GG has a problem, and MJ says, lately, she smokes so much, she’s not allowing herself to feel life. Andy hears genuine concern, but GG isn’t having it. She says she’s not causing problems, she doesn’t meddle, she’s not fighting, and she’s getting along with everyone. Andy asks what if she wants to get pregnant? She says she talked to the doctor already, because its going to be soon. She’s doing it on her own, and will degrade the right way.

The most popular question was about MJ starting a family. Andy asks what the hardest part has been, and MJ says being on hormones, and having a lot of emotional roller coasters while trying to implant embryos. He asks where they are in the process. MJ says on August 23rd, Shervin’s birthday, they had a successful transfer. She’s pregnant. Mike hugs her. GG tells Andy that MJ wasn’t drinking or around smoke, so she suspected. Reza knew already, and Destiney says she had a dream that she was pregnant and knew it meant something. MJ says she’s sharing it early on; she isn’t nine weeks yet. We find out she’s due on Mother’s Day. Mike ask if Vida knows, and MJ says they just told her, and we flash back to less than an hour ago. Tommy and Vida join the group.

Vida is excited and happy. Andy asks Vida if MJ will be a great mom, and Vida says they’ll have to see. GG says she and MJ might have a lot of issues, but thinks she’ll be an amazing mom. Andy tells us, to say there were high highs and low lows this season is an understatement. He’s sorry about MJ’s dad passing. It was clear how much he meant to her. A viewer asks how difficult it was to film the show during that time. Tommy thought it was cathartic. It made MJ go out. Otherwise, she could have retreated into depression. MJ agrees. She says for so many years, she was in so much pain, knowing the quality of life he was living. Andy asks Tommy about Shams, and Tommy says he was an exceptional human being. He did a lot for a lot of people. He loved MJ and Vida, and made him promise they’d stay in each other’s good graces, and get along. Andy asks Reza what about MJ reminds him most of her dad, and Reza says he was always in a good mood, and super generous. He’ll be eternally grateful to Shams. Vida thanks him for his kind words. Reza says they went to Las Vegas all the time, and MJ and Vida would come. He wondered, who takes his daughter and ex-wife to Caesar’s Palace? Reza says after a while, he wasn’t looking so well, and looked like he was suffering, and MJ would be smiling, stroking his hair, and joking with him. He found a new level of love and respect for her. He doesn’t have that experience with his own dad, and it melted his heart to see her taking care of him. Andy asks how MJ is honoring her dad, and she says she tries to embody him, and point out things he would say. Reza says she killed it in Vegas. She played his numbers, and literally couldn’t lose.

Andy says MJ refocused on her upcoming nuptials, and in the midst of Palm Springs partying, had a nice moment with Vida. We flash back to Vida says she’s sure Shams is looking at them. Andy asks Vida if she consciously lightened up because MJ needed her more. She says, of course. She feels closer to MJ, and when she’s not feeling it, she’s down and depressed. When they get together, it goes away. Andy says, when she looks back, does she think she was too hard on MJ? Vida says, everybody makes mistakes. They all applaud. MJ says what makes life sweeter is knowing the fun relationship she can have with her mom. She’s looking forward to a new chapter, and sharing motherhood with her.

Andy moves on to the love story no one saw coming, and MJ’s wedding. MJ says she wanted to be cooler than the other side of the pillow. Andy asks what stressed her the most, and she says when she came out and saw everyone who flew out to see them. We see a clip of her coming down the aisle, greeting everyone like she’s a politician before an election. She says she was out of control, and it was lucky she didn’t fall over. Tommy says, she did, and we flash back to that. Andy asks if she regrets not writing her vows in advance, and MJ says, it’s a huge regret. Reza says she ran it by him, and he thought he put the kibosh on it. He asks Tommy if his I do was planned. He says, no, and we see a clip of him saying, abso-effing-lutely, and the rabbi telling him, elegantly put. He says he uses that phrase a lot. Vida says, that’s very bad. Andy says it’s no surprise Vida had strong opinions, and asks Vida what her makeup and dress issues were. Vida didn’t like MJ’s dark makeup, one shade lighter than black. We never hear about the dress because Reza brings up his favorite moment, when Vida wished Tommy would finish already with the vows. Reza says he cried for five minutes; it was so funny. Andy says he couldn’t have enjoyed watching it more, and tells them, congratulations on the baby. We say goodbye to Vida and Tommy.

In keeping with the theme of celebration, they’re going to burn esfand, a traditional Persian ritual to clear the air, burn away the bad energy, and bring in the good. Andy asks the Shahs to share one good thing and something they want gone. They pass the incense burner as they answer. Reza wants the negativity out, and to keep his friends as close as he possibly can, because he loves them. Mike wants to keep away the haters. He says even though his friends might not always think his life is on the track they’d like it to be, he loves them, and knows they have his best interests at heart. GG wants to learn patience and understanding, and continue in good health, and have good relationships. Nema wants to get rid of the boundary issues that are a problem with the group, and wishes wealth and success for all of them. He wants to see them all take over the world. Destiney wants positivity and love, and for her friends to be healthy, wealthy, and have lots of sex. MJ wants the love to flow, and her family to grow. She wishes prosperity, success, and strength for all of them.

Andy concludes with saying, together they’ve shared the most beautiful and heartbreaking moments of their lives. At the end of the day, they’re family. He says, you are all close friends of mine, in Farsi. GG says he sounded Japanese.

I’ll miss the Shahs. MJ was right. It was a real roller coaster this season.

👓 And In Closing…

Food for thought. But hopefully not that spider.

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Curtis says Hayden’s letter came in yesterday’s mail. It’s been ages since he’s heard from her. Finn asks how she is.

At the MetroCourt, Drew tells someone on the phone they’ll talk soon. Margaux hears him, and says, spontaneous, yet planned. Who’s the lucky lady? She tells him they don’t need to be enemies just because he turned down her proposal. He asks if she means her blackmail; exchanging his memories for the drop on Sonny. How’s that working for her? She says, since he asked, it blew up in her face.

Willow tells Elizabeth the kids are at an assembly, so they’ll have time to talk. Elizabeth says Aiden tried to bring his Halloween mask with him to school (!), and if it’s about him being tardy, it’s her fault. Willow says he only missed the Pledge; it’s not about that. Elizabeth asks if something happened. Willow says she encouraged him to ask a question on Career Day, but he didn’t respond; he just stayed quiet. Elizabeth says he’s still shutting down and retreating into himself. Willow tells her it’s become more pronounced, and she thinks she knows the cause.

Franco sees not-Doc at the hospital, and tries talking to him. He snaps at Franco, asking what’s not clear about him being busy. He apologizes, saying he’s on edge. The PCPD wants him to come in. Franco says it’s probably for the same reason they wanted to talk to him. It’s about the trick-or-treat murder at The Floating Rib.

Carly’s not thrilled about being person of interest, but it’s a step up from being a suspect. Sonny is sorry he wasn’t there for her last night, but she says Diane handled it. She was just worried about him. In the past, when he fell off the radar, it meant trouble. He says, not this time. The DA has been neutralized. At least as far as the murder goes. Jordan calls them in, and Carly says this is the second time in 24-hours; Jordan must have missed her. Jordan tells them to have a seat, but Sonny says if she’s asking questions, they’ll need their lawyer. Jordan says, no questions. She has definitive evidence in the murder of Mary Pat.

Anna says she has calls to make, but Finn says she doesn’t have leave. The letter is none of his business. Curtis says Hayden was straightforward. She saw a post by a mutual friend about his wedding, and wanted to congratulate him. She wrote about her travels and freelance work, but it sounded like she doesn’t stay in one place very long. Finn asks if she’s well, and Curtis says, she’s still figuring stuff out, and hopes Finn finds what he’s looking for. There was a note inside for him marked private. He didn’t read it. He gives Finn the note and leaves.

Margaux says Drew must have heard the old saying, be careful what you wish for. She should have paid attention to the warning. She wanted to know why her father died. Now she knows. Drew says, okay… She says her mother was having an affair with Skully, and had him murder her father. Drew says, sorry; it’s a lot to handle. She still believes Sonny pulled the trigger. She can’t prove it, but a case against her mom is possible. Drew says Margaux would have to turn her in first. She asks if it isn’t her duty. Of all people, who would know better than a Navy SEAL about putting duty and loyalty above all else, including your own life. He doesn’t remember though, does he?

Elizabeth tells Willow that at home, Aiden is talkative, engaging, and always present. Then when it’s time for school, a shift happens. Whatever is troubling him, is happening there. Willow says there’s nothing wrong with him, but there’s definitely a major problem at school. She believes he’s being targeted by a bully.

Franco tells not-Doc that Jordan came by the house to talk to him about the murder. Not-Doc wonders why. He wasn’t there, was he? Franco says he and not-Doc saw each other at the hospital that night. Not-Doc says, of course. Things go blurry after talking about Mary Pat. Franco says he and Mary Pat didn’t really have much contact, but what they really wanted know, were the methods and motivation of  a real-life alleged psycho killer. Not-Doc asks what he told them, and Franco says he told them to talk to not-Doc. He’s the expert. His recent research is all about killers. Not-Doc says that makes sense; anything else? Franco says he told them he thought not-Doc would be privy to what was driving the killer at the time. He was uncomfortable because Elizabeth was there. The thing is, he knows he’s fooling himself. Not-Doc asks, how so? and Franco says he understands the killer more than he was willing to admit. He knows enough to put him away for good.

Jordan says they know Carly was somewhere else well past the window of time. Carly tells Jordan she already said that, and Jordan says it’s to both their benefits to confirm it, especially since they found strands of Carly’s hair. Sonny wants to be clear, and asks if she’s no longer a person of interest. Jordan says she isn’t, and Carly wonders who’s trying set her up.

Elizabeth says, Aiden is being bullied? and Willow says she’s afraid so. Elizabeth says that explains why it’s been so difficult getting him on the bus. He must dread it. Willow hates that it’s happening there. She wants to make it welcoming and safe for all of the students. She likes to see the best in all of them, and must have missed the warning signs. She apologizes, but Elizabeth says at least their on the same page now. She asks if Aiden has been physical hurt, but Willow has seen no evidence of physical abuse. She spoke with other teachers, and neither have they. Children of that age primarily engage in verbal and social abuse; name calling, teasing, spreading rumors. Elizabeth says, you don’t have to get hit to be hurt. Verbal and emotional abuse can cut as deep, and last longer.

Not-Doc asks why Franco thinks he could catch the killer. Franco says he understands them. He can put himself in their place; right into his head. He can absolutely help track the killer down before he hurts anyone else. Not-Doc says he’s well-intentioned, but it would be a catastrophic idea. He’s already dealt with darkness, and is able to control it. It would be a mistake to access it again. He might open impulses that he may or may not be able to control. His top priority is Franco’s mental health, and it’s not worth the risk. They’ve come so far together, and he’s proud of the life Franco has built. Don’t jeopardize that now. Franco says, when he puts it like that… Not-Doc says he’s sure he can provide whatever insights are needed. Franco thanks him. Talking to not-Doc always makes him feel better. Elizabeth calls Franco, and asks him to meet her at the school. She’d rather tell him what’s up in person. He says he’s on the way.

In his hotel room, Finn tells Anna that Hayden was always unpredictable. She had a lot of secrets and demons. Their relationship was destined to fail. Anna says he wanted it to work, and he says he did. When Hayden got pregnant, it changed everything. Anna says it didn’t give him the impulse to leave. Finn says, he was all in. Although after the kids yesterday, he’s not so sure. Anna thinks he would have made a good dad. Finn says he has a great life. There’s nothing missing. He has her, and he thinks he has Roxie. Anna says she’s not threatened. He treasures what he has. Anna thinks he should read Hayden’s note. If he doesn’t, he’ll always wonder.

Drew asks if Margaux enjoys making light of his situation. That was low, even for her. She says she’s just reminding him that his memories are waiting. It’s really a shame to throw away the past. Drew says he doesn’t care. She needs a new angle; the flashdrive isn’t working for her. She says there’s no statute of limitations on murder.

Curtis comes in, and says he got Drew’s message. He asks if everything is okay.

Jordan tells Sonny and Carly that they’ll get to the bottom this. Sonny says Carly has been nothing but cooperative, and she’s owed a straight answer. Is she in danger? Jordan tells him to take whatever measures he deems appropriate to protect his family. It can’t hurt to tighten security. Carly says they’re always under investigation, and now that there’s an outside threat, a psycho killer, they’re supposed to step up security? Jordan says she’s using the best people they have. The killer won’t get away with what they’ve done. She promises. Not-Doc arrives.

Jordan thanks him for coming. She’s counting on his expertise regarding the incident at The Floating Rib. He asks for a moment with Carly first, and asks how she’s holding up. It must have been shocking and disturbing. She says it was, and someone tried to burn her for the murder. He wonders who would do such a thing, and to what end? Sonny says they failed, and will get theirs in the end. Carly says her neighbor at Ferncliff was no longer in the room. Nelle had taken his place. She wonders how Nelle ended up there, and Sonny says, later. They need to find out who’s behind the murder first. Not-Doc says he’s there to help.

Drew goes to the bar with Curtis. Curtis was hoping it was good news about Oscar, but Drew says, not today. He apologizes for not being able to make the wedding, but Curtis says he’s focusing on his son, as he should be. Drew says Curtis never did say where they were going on their honeymoon. Curtis says they’re putting the wedding together be the skin of their teeth; they have no plans. Drew says they might have now.

Franco storms into the classroom, saying, what the hell? and Elizabeth tells him being irate won’t solve the problem. Willow understands it’s difficult to hear. Franco says Aiden is a good kid. Willow sees that, and say that’s why he might be a target. His schoolwork isn’t suffering, but he’s self-secluding. Franco thinks she needs to tell his classmates, but Willow says he already feels isolated. It will just draw further attention to him, and he’ll feel singled out. Franco says the bully should be punished to set an example, but Willow thinks that will just make it worse. Elizabeth says, instead of one bully, Aiden will have to deal with a whole classful. Franco wants to know who the parents are. He’ll put a stop to it. Willow says she can’t do that.

Anna tells Finn she’ll give him space to read in private, but he says there shouldn’t be secrets between them. He opens it. If you’re reading this, you know I reached out to Curtis. I’m still trying to sort things out, what used to be called finding myself, whoever the hell that turns out to be. I’m sorry for running away. I should have trusted you; trusted us. Anna says, keep reading. After my travels, I’ve come full circle; remember what we had and what I let slip away. He crumples it. Anna says it’s eloquent, filled with genuine emotion and honesty. What did she say in the part he didn’t read out loud?

At the MetroCourt, Carly doesn’t understand why the mystery about her neighbor at Ferncliff. Sonny says the doctor is looking out for his patient’s right to privacy. Carly wonders why he wouldn’t tell her that, and Sonny says they should do what they came to do – celebrate being free of Mary Pat. Carly says, celebrate being clear with Margaux. Sonny regrets that it went that far; he was rough on her, but she didn’t back off and paid the price. Carly says, speak of the devil.

Carly says she’s not going to feel unwelcome in her own hotel. She asks Margaux if no good deed goes unpunished under her watch. Margaux has no idea what she’s talking about, and Carly says Sonny told her. She can’t imagine how painful it must be, but Margaux brought it on herself. Sonny tried to spare her, but she had to know truth. Was it worth it? Margaux says, like they care about her. Carly says, no, she cares about her family. Now that Margaux knows the truth, back off; enough. She doesn’t care if Margaux is the DA. She’ll do what it takes to protect the people she loves.

Drew shows Curtis a picture of Fiji on his phone, and says that’s where Curtis and Jordan are headed.

Doc tells Jordan that he thinks it’s misguided to involve Franco. They’ve made progress, and he’d hate to see Franco regress. She says that’s why she brought him in. She’s read his research, and is impressed at how easily get in the mind of a murderer; it makes sense. Is he speaking from experience? Not-Doc says, sorry? She says, his brother, and he says, of course. She’s sure it’s difficult, but she’d like to hear about his experiences with Ryan. Not-Doc says he learned a great deal about how what society might deem twisted, is an indication of superior intelligence. Like a chess expert thinks three moves ahead of their opponent. Jordan says that could explain Carly’s DNA. It was planted to frame her, or it could be a misdirection, so they pursue the wrong avenue. Not-Doc is flattered. She really read his paper. She says she did.

Franco doesn’t want to hear about school policy. He wants the names of the parents, and he’ll talk to them himself. Elizabeth says they won’t help. She asks if Willow can tell them why Aiden would be a target, but she doesn’t know; it’s unclear. That’s another reason she’s hesitant. She wants to reach out to the student and break the pattern. Franco accuses her of prioritizing the needs of the bully, but she says she cares about all of her students. It won’t stop by pitting families against one another. It will make it worse, especially for Aiden.

Finn asks what makes Anna think there’s more? She says she’s good at reading him; it’s a byproduct of caring. It doesn’t matter what she said. Anna isn’t threatened by what Finn once shared with her. Finn gives her the note, and she reads. Hayden’s travels are taking her to Rome in the next few weeks. She remembers Finn saying how much he liked a certain café, where he watched the world go by. She’ll send him the dates. Maybe they can meet and watch together. Anna says, they have unfinished business? Anna says Hayden still cares. She doesn’t think Hayden wants to meet to talk about the weather.

Elizabeth says Franco’s not turning into a third grade vigilante, right? He says he overacted, and Willow says, it’s hard to be objective when your kid is hurting. Elizabeth asks what they should be doing, and Willow says she’ll give them some materials that have great advice, and strategies on how to deal with a bully. She doesn’t want them to feel alone, and says she’ll be closely monitoring the situation. They should encourage Aiden to talk. Start with anything else, like a TV show, and gently steer the conversation to school. Don’t force it, or he’ll pick up on that and shut down. They want him to stay open, and make him feel safe. Let it come from him; the same with solutions. Allow him to choose how to help himself. Elizabeth says, let him be in charge. Willow says, he needs to feel empowered. Franco says, what about the kid picking on him? Willow says she’s trying to diffuse things, and keep him out of it. Maybe she’s naïve, but she believes there’s no bad seed; no kid can’t be redeemed. Every child has value, and everyone deserves a chance. Elizabeth says it’s not just a job for her. It’s personal, isn’t it?

Jordan tells not-Doc there’s clearly a method to the madness. He thinks it’s unwise to call the killer mad. Jordan says he’s not suggesting they’re sane. He says the killing was carefully planned to elicit an extreme reaction; it’s not at all random. He selected his victim carefully, and if he’s not caught, he’ll do it again. Jordan says that’s why he’s there. How do they catch the killer?

Curtis tells Drew that he’s incredibly generous. He doesn’t know what to say, and Drew says, don’t say anything. Curtis tells him not to get nonchalant. He knows it cost a fortune. Drew reminds him about dumpster diving, and Curtis says, maybe Drew does owe him. He doesn’t know how much time off they can get, and Drew says that’s why he left the reservations open-ended. Curtis calls him Mr. Smooth, and Drew says he has no excuse for not taking him up on it.

Margaux asks if Carly just threatened a witness. Sonny says he didn’t catch it. He tells Margaux the suspect has been cleared. Carly says she would know that if she hadn’t taken a road trip to sort out her family business. Margaux says she’s the DA, regardless. Margaux leaves, and Carly says it’s worse than she thought. Sonny has misguided compassion. Carly was prosecuted for crimes she didn’t commit, and committed to Ferncliff. Margaux badgered Mike, and made accusations about crimes she couldn’t prove, and buried her father next to Morgan, and he feels sorry for her? Sonny says he feels badly that she lost her father when she was a little girl. Carly asks if he’s sure that’s it.

Finn doesn’t know what unfinished business means. He fell apart the day she took off, and they lost the baby. There’s no unfinished between them. Anna says he might believe that. He says, clearly, she thinks differently. She asks what he’s going to do.

Willow says for her, the toughest part of being a teacher is staying objective. When the kids are with her, they’re her responsibility. It’s hard not to take it personally. She wishes she could confront the bully and fix it, but the goal is to make sure all the kids feel welcome, secure, and productive. If they work together, they’ll get through this rough time.

Outside. Elizabeth thanks Franco for coming. She’s so worried, she feels helpless. Franco tells her that they’ll do what Willow said. Give Aiden the space to tell them, and when he does… Elizabeth tells him, don’t even think about it. Focus on Aiden. When he tells them, they’ll deal with it together.

Willow calls Lulu, and says they need to have a talk about Charlotte.

Curtis tells Drew that he’s out of excuses. Drew says, great; refusing isn’t an option. Curtis says Jordan will flip when she gets the news. Drew says tell her Fiji isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It will be waiting. He’s sorry about the wedding, but Curtis says, stepping up for his son is where he should be, and it makes him the best man Curtis knows. They fist bump.

Jordan thanks not-Doc, and asks if she can continue to use him as a resource. He was hoping she would ask. To take full advantage of his expertise, it’s crucial that she keep him advised every step of the way, so they can stay one step ahead of the killer.

There’s a knock at Margaux’s hotel room door. It’s Sonny. She asks what he wants, and he says he wants to finish this.

Tomorrow, not-Doc tells Ava that he has the perfect cure, Michael wonders if it’s a coincidence or ambush, and Margaux asks if Sonny is going to kill her.

The Shahs of Sunset – The Reunion, Part One

Tommy tells MJ she has some caboose. He says she’s extra, and touches her stomach. She wants them to talk to her mom. He doesn’t think it’s an appropriate time, but it’s up to her. He’ll be there. GG says she’s there to do what she does best, put people in check. Nema has no interest in being nice anymore Destiney feels the tension. We see a few clips of what’s to come.

We flash back to when the paramedics had to be called for GG hyperventilating during the last reunion. She’d smoked too much weed. She’s coughing already, and the producer is a little concerned.

Andy says they’re closing out a season as raw and outrageous as ever. Let’s get too it. He congratulates MJ. Wow. Mike has a bright blue plaid sportscoat and vest. In a pink suit, Reza says he was going for middle-eastern gay dictator from the 70s; very specific. Andy says GG looks younger every year. What’s her secret? Reza says, lots of work, but she insists she’s had no work done this year. Andy says Nema survived his first season. Nema says, barely, and tells Andy that he has notes. He’s ready for war. He claims Mike is obsessed with him. Mike says Nema is everything he wishes he could be

Between meeting new blood and revisiting old beefs, the skiing Shahs weren’t the only thing going downhill. We see clips of them skiing, Destiney being the worst. Andy says Mike introducing a potential girlfriend to the group, is like dangling meat over hungry lions. Mike says Mona held her own, and MJ says they were nice to her. Andy asks if it means he’s serious, and Reza says he needs their help to close the deal. Mike says it’s because he finds someone he wants to hang out with, and wants to see how they get along with his friends. If the lions don’t eat the steak, he brings her around again. A viewer asks if Mike was dating Morgan when he brought Mona to Big Bear. Mike says he and Morgan were taking a break, and he went out with Mona, but it was more of a friend date. GG says Mike made a big deal out of Mona’s nail polish being chipped. We see a clip of Mike pointing out a chipped nail when they’re at a restaurant. He says it would be like him not shaving, and Andy points out that he hasn’t shaved for the reunion. Well, it’s not a date either. Mike says Mona wasn’t reciprocating the love, so he wanted to deflate her ego. Destiney says he has little penis syndrome. Mike says women are the greatest gift, and he has a lot of respect for them. Nema thinks if a woman is going on a date that she’s interested in, she shaves her legs and does her nails. She probably saw him as friend. Mike wonders if she wanted a free dinner, and Nema says she doesn’t need one. She didn’t even call it a date; she called it having food with Mike. She said he critiqued her nails, and she thought it was a d*ck move. Mike says some girls like d*ck moves. Obviously, Nema has beef with Mike.

A viewer asks if Nema went to Big Bear to keep an eye on his sister, and he says part of him. Mike’s reputation precedes him. Mike says Mona told him that Nema had no Persian friends, and wanted to meet him. Nema says his secondary purpose was to keep an eye on him. Mike says he’s holding Nema accountable. They don’t want the Reza effect, talk bullsh*t and it’s fact. Reza says Mike was pissed because Mona didn’t compliment him. He asked who she thought she was, and said he had Morgan, who was all about him. Then he took Mona to Big Bear, and she said she wanted a high-end life. We flash back to Mike telling her she needs a multi-gazillionaire. Reza says after that, he was done with her. He tells Mike to keep it real, and Mike says Reza says things as matter-of-fact, and everyone believes him. Andy asks Nema if he thought it was a good match, and Nema says, absolutely not.  Andy asks what type Mike likes, and he says voluptuous lips and boobs. Mona is gorgeous, but MJ is more his type. Mona is model skinny. A viewer says Mike claimed to put Mona in the friend zone, when she friend zoned him. MJ thinks Mona wants to be the next Amal Clooney. Mike says he’s not pursuing Mona anymore, but Nema says the reality is, Mike still texts her. Mike says they text as friends, but Nema begs to differ. He asks her to try and make it work, but she won’t give him the texts because she’s too nice. Destiney says she’s seen them, and Mike says they’re tripping. He tells Destiney, shut up. She says she has nothing to lie about, and he’s gone back and forth since Big Bear. Mike insists there’s been nothing inappropriate, or asking to get back together – ever. Andy suggests leaving it.

Andy tells us that life after walking down the aisle is not always a walk in the park. Adam and Tommy join the group. Andy asks Tommy if being married is everything he thought it would be, and he says he’s a lucky guy; she’s the best. Adam is asked what’s what most challenging about marrying into the Shah group? He says there are a lot of egos, and he tries to get along without stepping on anyone’s toes. Andy says he does it well, and Adam says he’s chill. A viewer asks why Adam was so surprised and upset not to be part of the bridal party, and we flash back to that. Adam says he thought they had gotten closer, but he was more upset than he should have been. Andy wonders why MJ didn’t ask. She says she values the bond she’s building with Adam, but being a bridesmaid is a laborious position. She’d rather some people be guests with no obligation, and they’re also not there in the friendship. Adam says any time they feel a certain way, they discuss it like adults and move on. Imagine that.

A viewer asks what pushed MJ and Tommy into couples therapy? MJ says when they’d have an argument, they didn’t reach each other. She gets angry, and thinks he’s not listening. Andy says, so it’s a communication issue. Another viewer asks if Tommy got angry about MJ saying she’d cheat on him if he didn’t give her what she wants. Tommy says if he said the same thing, she’d go apesh*t. MJ says, in the moment, she was kidding around, and she appreciates him being cool. Andy asks what lessons Destiney has learned about watching the others’ relationships? Destiney says she’s worried about being married for six months, and having to give half of everything to a dude. As for therapy, she’s already in it for herself. The last thing she wants to worry about is someone else, when she’s figuring out herself. Mike says she has a vendetta against him. What did she say on break? She says she told Mike to show everyone his (sounds like) shubaloo, which I think is the same as dool. We see a clip of Mike on break saying his pants are too tight.

Andy says while Adam was focused on building a family, Reza had five-hundred thousand reasons to stall. We flash back to Reza handing over the check. A viewer wonders if it’s not Groundhog Day with them – Adam whining for a family and Reza putting him off with empty promises – and aren’t they tired of the cycle? Tommy disagrees, saying Reza had a lot on his plate last year. Reza swears he kept trying to tell Adam an opportunity came along where he was willing to roll the dice with his retirement money. It was probably the roughest patch they’ve been through. Adam says Reza wasn’t feeling appreciated, and he was focused on himself. He wasn’t giving Reza attention, and acknowledging the amazing things he was doing for them. Tommy says Reza just wanted a pat on the back. Andy asks if he got one, and Reza says he didn’t. He finished the house, and they moved in. He thought a card, flowers, a homemade dinner. He wanted one simple thing, and Adam couldn’t do it. It started a downward spiral, and had him thinking things that weren’t positive. Mike tells him to repeat what he said, and Reza says he wanted a divorce. Andy asks if they’re come over the hump. Reza says they’re working on it, and going to counseling and communicating. Nema says having been in a marriage that ended in divorce, you shouldn’t put the word out. You can’t take it back. Mike says, thank you Dr. Phil. Adam figures the next time Reza says it, he’ll say, fine. He doesn’t appreciate jumping through another hoop. Mike says, don’t use that word again, unless you’re ready to pull the trigger. Reza says they’d talk to someone first, and work on it. Then if it doesn’t work out, get a divorce. Andy says the feedback about Reza’s investment was overwhelming. The viewers thought he did the wrong thing. He asks what people aren’t getting about Reza’s motivation? Reza says what people don’t understand is that it’s a cultural thing. This is his money; he earned it, and had it before they met. They don’t have a joint bank account or a prenup. Reza says he did it for their future. He seized an opportunity for a great investment, but he needs to work on communication. Adam says he also watches his money, but Reza is more of a spender. MJ says, and earner. Andy wonders if the partner bringing in more money should call the shots. GG says she wouldn’t ask permission to spend her own money. Mike says he realizes what a healthy relationship needs, and Destiney laughs, thinking he’s the last one to talk about that. He says she’s never had a boyfriend, and she’s like, oh really? Andy asks MJ if she thinks Adam and Reza are equals in the relationship. She says they love each other, and that’s the most important thing, but they need to work on a more equal dynamic. Andy says they just celebrated their third anniversary. Where do they go from here? Adam says, the fourth and fifth.

Andy asks what Mike was referring to when he talked about knowing Reza and Adam’s secrets on Watch What Happens Live? We see the clip. Mike says they do kinky sh*t, and Adam shares that with him. He asks if Adam doesn’t have a nickname for his butt? Adam says, everyone knows that. I don’t. What is it? Something silly like Winky or more serious, like Mr. Hobson? Andy asks if that’s the dirt.  MJ says Mike made it sound like they invite other people into their marriage. Mike says he doesn’t know. Reza says maybe later on when things get boring. Mike tells them, if he said that, they’d call him a whore. Destiney says that’s different. He’s been consistent in ho behavior, but won’t admit it. Andy says if that happens, he is a single guy. Destiney says if she had a shubaloo, she’d be a ho too. Mike says saying that about him is derogatory to his ex-wife, and women he dates. Destiney wants him to get as much as he can, but he doesn’t own a lot. GG says Destiney doesn’t own a lot either. They don’t know a lot about her relationship stuff. Destiney says GG has only asked about one guy. GG says everyone has a level of how much they’re open. Andy takes a break, and kicks Adam and Tommy out.

Andy says, welcome back, like we’re the ones who left. Andy asks why GG made a crack about MJ and Reza after MJ announced Reza was in the bridal party? Was she jealous? GG says she’s not that type. She was throwing a jab back after one was thrown at her.  When someone throws a jab at her, she amplifies it, and throws it back. A viewer wonders why MJ refused to admit having sex with Reza back in the day. Mike says she did once, and MJ says she was joking around; she’s always said it didn’t happen.

Another viewer asks why GG’s comments upset MJ so much. MJ thinks GG is in an unhappy, dark place. Maybe if she was sober, she’d have reacted differently. GG says she’s always baked. Maybe MJ shouldn’t have been smoking too. MJ says she didn’t have to take it that way; she was on another level. If she hadn’t been, she might have realized she was being sarcastic. GG thinks MJ’s behavior is similar to Vida’s in that they use sarcasm to say what they want to. MJ is shutting her down. She says GG is jealous, and GG says, of what? MJ says GG can’t be happy for the people around her; it’s a pattern she has. She tries to be nice, but when GG gets like that, she’s giving it back. A viewer suggests MJ is getting a taste of her own medicine, since she stole the attention away from Asa being pregnant. MJ says she was intoxicated, and in a deep state of pain. She was coming from the hospital, and it was her reaction to her sadness. GG says MJ isn’t seeing how she hurts people.

Andy asks if they went too far when they introduced Shalom’s ex at MJ’s party. We flash back to that. He asks if Reza did it, and he says both he and MJ did it to piss GG off. Mike thinks it was hilarious. Andy says GG’s fight seems to be with MJ. GG says Reza will always be on MJ’s side. Reza agrees, saying GG has done him dirty, and he and MJ go back thirty years. Andy asks MJ to tell him something she loves about GG, and MJ says, her heart. Andy asks GG the same question about MJ. There’s a long pause, and she says when MJ cares about someone, she’s there for them. MJ thinks Andy picked the worst time to ask that; there’s too much bitterness and resentment. GG says she stands out because she’s the loudest, but the others poke at her under the table. Reza doesn’t care how much he hurt her. He says he doesn’t; she’s vile to him. She asks why he said they’d moved past it. Reza says the made up when she got back together with Shalom – we see a clip of their wedding – but then, Shalom told him everything she was saying was a lie. She’s lying about him suing her. Andy says they’ll get back to this. GG wants to show them something from her lawyer on her phone. Andy keeps telling her they’ll talk about it after, and she says because of Mike and Reza, she’s being sued. She says she’s out of there. She’s not being called a liar, and she’s being sued for bullsh*t. She tells them, have a good reunion. She storms off, and Mike says she creates crazy stories to ruin people’s character. They just joke around, and it won’t destroy her life. Andy takes a break.

GG is done, and needs the cameras out. Vida shows up. Reza tries to talk to GG. She says she’s done. Vida says she likes MJ’s makeup, but not her hair. MJ doesn’t care. Tommy tells her, relax. Reza asks Nema, what about GG? Nema says she’s not honest, and the minute she gets called out, she bolts. Reza says, when you’re evolving, you let sh*t fly. Nema says she thinks she’s evolving, but she’s not. Destiney goes to GG’s dressing room. She thinks GG should be there to speak her truth, but GG isn’t interested. She bows to Destiney for taking it. Destiney says they need to hear how GG feels because she matters. All GG wants to do is argue, so no matter what Destiney says, she changes it around to something against her. She says the show tried to invite Shalom there, and he’s suing her again. Reza and Mike believe a guy they just met, and she’s supposed to be family. Destiney says if it was her, she’d look them in the face and tell them what she thinks. She wouldn’t leave.

Tommy says he promised Shams that he wouldn’t let Vida and MJ fight. MJ says she can’t take it. Tommy tells her, chill, and Vida says, stop screaming. Tommy says, everyone needs to chill and get in a good space. GG walks outside, and toward the parking lot.

Next time, part two, Andy tries to get GG to come back, the Shahs talk about Shams, Destiney talks about her father, Reza yells at Mike, MJ tells Mike to stop living in Jessicaland, and Mike thinks Destiney likes women.

😭 Say It Ain’t So…

No, this can’t be. I can’t have gained a Denise Richards to lose an LVP.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Margaux drives with Sonny in the passenger seat. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, absolutely. He tells her that her mom wanted her father dead. She needs to ask herself, does she really want to hear her mother say those words?

Kim walks into Charlie’s. Julian senses it’s for a reason other than to see him. Kim says he senses correctly. She has to do something that goes back on her word to Oscar. She goes over to Oscar, who says he’s working. She knows Drew talked to him about a trip. Oscar says he turned Drew down. He wants control over his medical decisions. He’s looking forward to the lawsuit, and there’s nothing she can do about it. She tells him, don’t be so sure.

Josslyn comes in from practice. Carly is catching up on hotel business, and shuffling the loudest papers on the face of the earth. Josslyn asks if Carly is sure she’s okay. Carly says it was horrible, but she just wants them to find who did it, and lock them up. Josslyn wants to go change. Cameron is coming over, and they’re studying together.

Cameron tells Elizabeth that he’s going to Josslyn’s house to study. She asks, what about Oscar? and Cameron says he doesn’t need to study; he quit school. She meant how is he going to feel about them spending time together? Cameron says he told her, he and Josslyn are just friends. He opens the door, and Chase and Jordan are there. He raises his hands and says he didn’t do it.

Curtis tells Kay that he needs to ID the areas that need to be addressed. Kay has to check on the staff, and steps out. Curtis texts Sam, 11 41 77. Kay comes back and asks who he’s texting. Is he checking or violating security?

Inside the mystery patient’s room, Sam and Jason see Nelle rocking a doll, and singing Rock-a-bye Baby to it.

Sonny tells Margaux, when he proves her mother was involved, it’s going to break her heart. He doesn’t want to do that. Margaux says he can back out, but if he does, she’ll know it’s a lie.

At Charlie’s bar, Daisy tells Kristina it looks like she’s hard at work. She should hang out with them more. Kristina thinks she’s one of those people who’s better off flying solo. Daisy suggests she’s creating an emotional barrier between her and everyone else. What would happen if she let go, and lived life openly?

Josslyn comes back down, and Carly wonders if she wants to look nice for Cameron. Josslyn says she was all smelly and gross from practice, and could they please not do this. Carly says she’s not trying pry, but Josslyn says that’s what it feels like. Carly says it’s nice seeing her smile. If Cameron is the reason, great, but rebound relationships can be tricky. Josslyn says she’s not on the rebound. Carly says it’s not criticism, just an observation. She and Cameron have been friends a long time. He’s supportive, and they have a lot in common. If Josslyn enjoys spending time with him, there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as it’s about the two of them, and not a reaction to Oscar.

Cameron tells Chase and Jordan that he’s totally reformed. He doesn’t even jaywalk. Jordan says, keep it that way. Elizabeth apologizes, and pushes him out the door. Jordan says it’s okay; she’s had a teenage boy. They’ve come to speak to Franco, and hoping for advice. Franco asks if they want to know about expressionism, but Jordan says, nothing that esoteric. Franco says they’re here for special insight into the trick-or-treat murder. They think he did it.

Curtis tells Kay he was contacting an associate about their security analysis. There are areas that need improvement. She gave him access to their mainframe. He asks how she checked his credentials, and she says she checked the website. He says dozens of bad actors can whip up a website. She should have contacted the state agency. She says she’ll call right away.

Nelle calls the baby Jonah, and says daddy sent friends to visit. She tells them he sleeps through the night and never cries. Jason says she’s good, but Carly was better. Nelle says, sorry. Daddy didn’t send them; they’re mean, and he wouldn’t do that. Jason reminds Sam about when Carly was at Ferncliff, and pretended a pillow was baby Michael. He says she was amazing. He almost bought it, even though he knew she was faking. Sam says Nelle did her research, and is copying Carly. Unless it’s not an act. Maybe her obsession with Carly finally caused a break with reality, and she thinks she’s living Carly’s life.

Carly lets Cameron in. Josslyn says she set things up on the terrace. Carly says it’s cold out, but Cameron says it’s an astronomy project, and his house has more light pollution. Josslyn drags him outside, and he asks, where’s the fire? Why is she in a rush to get away from her mom? Josslyn says her mom is worried she’s rebounding. It’s kind of great because she buys it, but if they spend too much time around her, she’ll realize they’re faking, and the plan will blow up. Her mom says she should accept the break-up, and find a way to move on. Cameron says he’s with her mom on this one. Josslyn says her mom messed up a lot when she was younger, and stop her from making the same mistakes, but she wants to make her own mistakes. Not that this is a mistake. It’s going to work, because she knows Oscar still cares. They just need to make him jealous enough to admit it

Carly tells the guard to send her up. Kim comes to the door. She apologizes for just showing up, but she was hoping to speak to Josslyn.

Kristina tells Daisy that she’s not whining about her life. She has nothing to complain about. Unlike Oscar, who’s going through something major. She says it was nice of Daisy to give him a place to stay. Daisy says he’s great, and fits right in. Everybody is welcome.

Elizabeth says it was a horrendous crime, so Franco is the first person of interest? Jordan asks if he doesn’t work at Ferncliff. He says he’s not on staff, but goes there once or twice a month. Chase asks if he worked with Mary Pat, and Franco says they’re paths crossed. Elizabeth asks why they’re starting with Franco, and Chase says they thought he could provide insight. Franco says they don’t want to talk to him as an art therapist. They want to talk to Franco the killer.

Margaux checks the wire, and asks Sonny to say something. He says he takes the fifth. He’s sorry about what’s going to happen. He goes to the house, and rings the bell. Jeanette asks if she can help him, and he says he’d like to speak to her about her late husband. She invites him in, and asks if he’s from the insurance company. He says, no. He knew her in her previous life. She asks who he is, and what this is about. He says they have a friend in common. Her friend, his boss, Joe Skully. She says he was a client of her husband’s, and she met him a couple of times, but he certainly wasn’t a friend. Sonny says that’s not how he remembers it. She’d like him to leave, but he says she might want to hear him out. He knows a bit about her, her husband, and Skully. She asks what he wants, and he says he wants answers about why her husband was killed.

Carly asks Kim why she needs to speak to Josslyn. Kim says it’s about Oscar. Carly says he and Josslyn broke up; he dumped her. Kim says it’s a complicated situation, and asks if she can have five minutes. Carly doesn’t think it’s a good for Josslyn. She took the break-up hard, and she’s just starting to get back on her feet. Carly doesn’t want her to get hurt again.

Josslyn tells Cameron it’s easier in Australia. They look at the sky, and she says her dad is big on camping and sailing. He’d live his life outdoors if he had the chance. Long treks are their thing as a family, and this makes her miss him. She has one life with him, and a different one here. For various reasons, there’s not much overlap. Cameron wonders if he’s supposed to ask why, and she says her dad and Sonny hate each other. The one thing they agree on is they don’t want her to pick sides. She tries to stay neutral, but it leaves her sadly lacking in northern astronomy. Cameron says he was a PC Pioneer, and talks about the Northern Star being a constant in the night’s sky. If they stayed out all night, the other stars turn, but Polaris won’t move. She says, cool, and he looks at her.

Daisy tells Kristina that they’re helping to repair the Charles Street community center, and asks if she wants to help. Kristina says she’s the opposite of crafty, but Daisy says if she can carry a bag to the dumpster, she qualifies. Julian asks Kristina to keep eye on Oscar. He agreed to hire Oscar if he kept up with his schoolwork, but he doesn’t seem to be keeping his end of the deal. Oscar sits at a table trying to read, and rubbing his head.

Franco tells Chase and Jordan that he had a tumor, and wasn’t legally responsible for his actions. Jordan says they’re not pursuing criminal action, and Chase says they just want insight into what motivated the killer, and how they might have carried out their plan. Elizabeth tells Franco that he doesn’t have to, but Franco says he’ll share anything. He wants to help. If Elizabeth wants to leave, it’s okay, but she says nothing he says can shake her faith in him. Franco says, let’s do this.

On the phone, Kay says she has the Coil Protection consultant right there, and asks for advance notice next time they make a scheduled visit. Curtis asks if he checked out, and Kay says he knew he would. Sam texts Curtis that they need him asap, and Kay asks if there’s a problem.

Sam asks Nelle if she remembers who she talked to, Nelle talks to the pseudo baby, saying they want to make mommy say something she shouldn’t. Jason tells her that Ferncliff is worse than Pentonville, especially for someone like her. Sam says, without allies working to release her, she could find herself in a tighter trap.

Nelle says they think they’re so smart. This is just a stop along her way to freedom. Sam wonders who fooled Nelle into thinking this was a way out. Nelle says it worked for Carly. She had two counts of attempted murder, and didn’t go prison; she came there. Jason got her out, and now she’s back with her rich, happy family, sure that she won. She didn’t win. Carly isn’t beating her. When Nelle gets out, Carly is going to lose. Curtis walks in with Kay, and tells her to go on. Don’t let them interrupt.

Franco says, one word drives a killer- power. Absolute power over life and death. Jordan asks if that’s what drove him. Franco says he had a brain tumor, but his motive was always Jason. He was told Jason was his twin, and he wanted to be better, with more power and cunning. He wanted to be harder to catch. Chase says, so in his mind, it was competition. Franco suggests they talk to Doc. Different people might exhibit the same symptoms and psychosis, but they don’t’ always lead to murder. They came to the right place.

Carly tells Kim that Josslyn is trying to figure out how to move past her first heartbreak. She doesn’t want Josslyn hurt again. Kim says Oscar is hurting too. If Josslyn understood why, she’d be sympathetic.

Cameron points out a constellation. Josslyn gives him a token of thanks and appreciation. A Taurus keychain. He says he’s lost four house keys this year, and it will inspire him to be more careful. He thanks her, and his mom thanks her too. Josslyn asks if he told his mom, and he says, no, but she’s getting suspicious. She thinks they’re more than friends. Josslyn says then it’s working. She knows the last thing he wants to do is pretend to be her boyfriend. He tells her to stop apologizing. He gets someone to sit with at lunch, homework help, and a new keychain. She didn’t shoplift it, did she?

Kim tells Carly that Oscar doesn’t know she’s there. He’d be furious. Carly says maybe she should trust that he knows what’s best. She says the point is that he doesn’t. She thinks Josslyn is the only person who can get through to him. Cameron and Josslyn come back in, goofing around and laughing. Josslyn asks what Kim is doing there.

Julian asks if Oscar is okay, and has Kristina get him some water. Oscar tells him not to make a big deal. Sometimes a headache is just a headache. Kristina asks if he wants some aspirin, but he says it usually goes away in a couple of minutes. Julian wants to call the hospital. Daisy thinks maybe she can help. She puts her hands on his head, and tells him to hold his breath, then let it out.

Sonny says Jeanette has good scotch; he appreciates good liquor. He tells her that he owns a restaurant, and ran a couple of nightclubs. Back in the day, he worked at the Skylight in Brooklyn. He used to see her, and thought she was one of Skully’s girlfriends; he didn’t know she was married to his lawyer. She says he must have her confused with someone else, but he says he’s not confused. She went to Skully’s apartment all the time, then stopped coming. She asks what he wants, and he says her husband’s body was found in the basement of Charlie’s Pub. She says she’s aware of that. He says the cops suspect someone close to him, and they’re being harassing. She says, if they’re guilty, they should pay, but he says she knows better than anyone that they’re not. She says she didn’t know her husband was dead until recently. For all she knew, he was in the Caribbean. Sonny says she knew he wasn’t hiding. She knew he was dead. She wanted Skully to kill him. She says that’s a lie, but he says he has proof – her own words.

Nelle says the mean people are leaving. Kay asks Curtis if Jason and Sam are his associates. He says they gained access to the most restricted area. Sam says Nelle isn’t supposed to be there, but Nelle tells Kay not to listen. She’s crazy, and she’s supposed to be there. These are Carly’s friends. Kay says if she’s saying she’s crazy, she’s not crazy. She tells Curtis that he has a team of outstanding professionals. She’ll report this right away. We’ll just let it slide that there should probably be further diagnosis.

Franco says at his worst, he was told he was very charming. He was an artist who’d had some success, and people wanted to know him, but he didn’t let them. He was an egomaniac, and manipulated people. He didn’t differentiate between right and wrong, or good and evil. Jordan wonders if the killer is someone who’s respected, but hiding their true nature. Franco thinks they should talk to Doc. Whoever killed the nurse, enjoyed it. Jordan’s phone rings. She says it’s forensics, and they have to go. She thanks them. Franco says the killer part of whoever it is needs to be fed. He won’t stop until they stop him.

Carly says Kim would like to talk to Josslyn about Oscar. Josslyn says anything she has to say, she can say in front of Cameron. Kim’s phone rings, and she has to take it. Julian tells her that she might want to come back. Oscar has a bad headache, and he’s refusing to go to the hospital. She jets, and Josslyn wonders if it was about Oscar.

Sonny tells Jeanette that she wanted Skully to kill her husband. It was the only way they could be together. She asks if he was spying on them, and says, unless he has a recording, then they have nothing to talk about. Sonny can’t figure her out. Was she in love with Skully or playing him? Either way, she wasn’t discreet. The first rule of thumb – don’t put it in writing. She says, no, and checks the desk. Margaux listens in. Jeanette says, they’re here, and Sonny says, where else would they be? He gets why she kept them when Skully was alive; they were leverage. But why keep them after he was dead? She says he’s right. She should have gotten rid of them. She tells Sonny that Skully got him started in the business, and was good to him. This has nothing to do with him. Sonny says someone he cares about is being wrongly accused. He wants the truth to come to light. Jeanette says she’s going to burn them, and he can’t do anything about it. Margaux walks in, and says, maybe he can’t, but she will.

Kim sees Daisy working on Oscar. He says his headache is gone, and asks how she did it. She says she didn’t; he did. He says she talked him through it; she’s amazing. She says she’s glad to help. Julian apologizes to Kim for the false alarm. Maybe Oscar was right; sometimes it’s just a headache. He asks how it went with Josslyn, and Kim says it didn’t. That ship has sailed. Her only option in fighting for Oscar’s life is in court.

Kristina asks Daisy how she did that. Daisy says any of her friends could do the same thing. Kristina asks if it’s something they learned. If it is, she wants to learn. Daisy takes out a book, and tells her to try reading this. It might help in her own life. Kristian looks at the book – Every Day is a New Dawn.

Franco asks Elizabeth if talking about his past freaked her out. She knows the past is in the past. She admires that he was willing to revisit it to help the police. He tells her that it’s just an act, and it’s not the killer’s last performance. He says he can do more to help the police. He can go to the dark side if they need him to.

Sam says she’ll get in touch with Spinelli, and he can hack into Ferncliff’s mainframe. Maybe he can figure out the name of Carly’s neighbor. Jason says someone is going through a lot of trouble to cover up. They can’t get even get a name, and within days of Carly’s visit, the patient was moved and replaced with Nelle. Sam doesn’t think it can’t be a coincidence.

Cameron leaves after reminding Josslyn where the Northern Star is. She goes back in, and Carly ask if she had fun. Josslyn says they finished their astronomy project. For a guy who pretends to be a dumb jock, Cameron knows a lot about stars. Carly says so does Josslyn, but Josslyn says she’s a novice in the north. Carly is glad she enjoyed her time with Cameron, and Josslyn asks that they leave it at that. She ask if Kim said anything about Oscar, but Carly says, no. Whatever she wanted to talk about, she guesses Kim changed her mind. The bell rings, and Carly wonders why the guards didn’t call.

Jordan and Chase are at the door. Chase says they need Carly to come down to the station and answer some questions. Carly asks, about what? and he says, there was DNA evidence on Mary Pat’s body. Jordan says, and it’s Carly’s DNA.

Tomorrow, Margaux says she came for the truth, Carly wonders why Ava isn’t a person of interest, and not-Doc is ready and waiting for Ava.

Shahs of Sunset

MJ had a random, crazy dream about planning a wedding. Then she and Tommy were back in therapy, and her wedding dress fitting was a disaster. She was in Vegas and there was a prenup. She was writing checks to pay for the wedding with her best friend from third grade, Kerry. There was a rehearsal dinner, and her mom gave her a wonderful surprise. After that, it was kind of a nightmare. Tommy was making fun of her. Holy! This is actually happening. She’s supposed to get married today.

Terry tells MJ she’s getting married in a few hours. Johnny calls she asks what best man’s job is today, and if he can make sure Tommy isn’t blackout drunk by the time he walks down the aisle. She’s worried he’s going to be drunk through the entire wedding. She can’t really do anything about it, but probably should.

Tommy is already drinking. Tommy gives out fresh Jordans to all the groomsmen. He says, it’s going to be a pretty Persian affair, with some NYC flavor.

Kerry asks Jesus to take the wheel. It’s three and a half hours until the wedding. MJ finally gets out of the pool. She goes back to the bridal suite, where Lenora meets her. Reza arrives. He thinks if MJ had married in her twenties, she’d be divorced by now. When she met Tommy, she knew who she was as a person. She met him on Tinder, and it effing panned out.

Destiney goes to Mona’s to get her makeup done. The glam team arrives. Destiney wants Sophia Loren Hollywood glamour. Nema says, at a Persian wedding, there will be a room of people judging what you’re wearing and how expensive it looks. They’re sizing you up immediately, and deciding whether to let you into the circle. Shervin and GG show up together, followed by Mike. There are lots of sparkles on the girls.

MJ realizes it was a huge mistake not insisting on another fitting. She wishes she could turn back time. Designer Pedram comes with the dress. He adjusts MJ’s spanx. She wiggles into the dress. The bodice isn’t tight enough, and she says she’d rather have a nip slip than wide boobs. She wants it tighter with mega cleavage. She doesn’t want to feel like an a-hole; she wants to feel pretty. Reza thinks the dress has no structure al. All they have is the exoskeleton; they didn’t get the shell. He tells MJ whatever she needs to do, they’ll do.

MJ wants her eye makeup to look like Princess Jasmine on crack. She starts going over her vows, but thinks everything sounds cliché. He tells her that she needs something. Vida enters, and immediately criticizes MJ’s makeup, saying MJ looks Chinese, and she hopes MJ turns into Persian. Reza says she can’t help herself. In his interview, he says Vida won’t be able to control herself today. As much love as she has for her daughter, Vida is Vida, and will tear someone’s head off. At the end of the day, she’s a tiger, and will eff you up. Vida says she told MJ what she wants, and won’t be ignored. She gives directions to the glam squad. Reza laughs. In MJ’s interview, she says her mom’s criticism is pressing her buttons. Vida thinks MJ’s makeup is too heavy and dark. She starts berating makeup artist Marine, saying she’s MJ’s mama, and they have to listen. She starts yelling about being ignored. In her interview, Vida says she worked in the cosmetic department for thirty years. The more she tries to be nice, the more she’s ignored. Now it’s too late. MJ apologizes to Marine for Vida’s behavior, saying she knows how Persian moms are. She tells Vida, talk sh*t to her own people. MJ feels like a tsunami has taken over everything. Vida complains to Kerry. MJ doesn’t know why God gave Vida a child who wants to be dark, when Vida wants Morgan Fairchild.

It’s noted that GG is no longer wearing her ring. In her interview, GG says she got married for the wrong reasons. He wanted to get married. GG doesn’t think marriage is a good idea, but wishes MJ the best. They toast at Mona’s.

MJ comes out fully dressed. Reza says they basically cut the scoop on the neck, and she looks stunning fully made up. She does look pretty. Like a princess. Vida knocks repeatedly, but MJ says her mom isn’t allowed in until later. Now she’s surrounded by the people who make her feel good. All the green M&Ms have been extracted. Vida finally gets in. There’s silence, and then she says, very beautiful. In MJ’s interview, she says the love thing looks good on Vida. She should wear it more often. They put the blusher (front veil) on MJ, and she starts to cry. Pedram says Shams will be there with her, walking her down the aisle. In her interview, MJ says her dad was all right with Tommy, who will fill that void as her husband. He was her best friend, and always will be. We see a Shams flashback. MJ says she’s winging the vows. Everyone leaves except Reza.

At Mona’s, the card is signed. It’s getting close to time, so they head to the venue. Destiney feels that she’s blessed to be around them. They’re lives are changing. The wedding itself is a blessing, but it’s also a blessing for them to be there together, going through a new journey in life. Several of them have never been to a Muslim wedding. Me neither. They take pictures and mingle with the other guests. There’s an aroosi box for the money, and Destiney explains that money is given to start a new life with this person. Ha-ha! A baby in a tux. He doesn’t look happy about it though. Shervin says he’d cry too, if Mike was holding him like that. The centerpieces on the tables are just beautiful. Music begins to play.

Everyone gets seated. Mike wants a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. MJ has a run in her bodice from picking up a child. In MJ’s interview, she doesn’t want to feel pressure, and this isn’t helping. She wishes she’d practiced walking in her dress and that she wrote vows. She feels pale. It’s forty-five minutes past the wedding time. Vida swears MJ was ready. Tommy looks nervous, and says, good times… Mike says, in true MJ fashion, she’s even late for her own wedding. MJ looks for the vodka. Reza tells her to enjoy herself, and focus on herself. She’s marrying the love of her life, she has eggs on ice, let’s go get married.

The entrance music starts – Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major, more popularly known as the theme from Ordinary People. Mike says, let’s get this party started. Tommy comes down the aisle, and slaps hands along the way. In his interview, he says it’s the easiest decision he ever made in his life. Neither one of them would mesh well with a lot of people, but they work. Aw, I like him. Vida is glad MJ has someone in her life to share her life with. She’s happy with Tommy, so Vida is happy with Tommy. She gained a son and it’s wonderful. It’s one hour past start time. MJ takes a deep breath.

Tommy says it’s an overwhelming moment. There are a lot of people there, and the longer he stands there, the longer he feels like an idiot. Reza comes down, and the flower girls spread petals. The bride follows. At the top of the stairs, she says, okay; she’s going. And it’s like Lucille Ball going down the stairs in that big headdress. Someone wisely helps carry the veil. I think MJ is a little drunk. She greets everyone along the way, hugging and chatting. Mike wonders if she’s ever been to a wedding; it’s not a concert. You go down the aisle to the groom, who’s been waiting an hour and a half. You can hug and kiss afterward at the reception. Tommy tells her that she looks phenomenal. She tells him to put the veil back. He does, and leads her the rest of the way. She asks the crowd if everything looks okay. Tommy steps on her veil. In her interview, MJ says the wedding is so them. Imperfections and bridal faux pas. They’re two clumsy people.

The officiant says they’ve been waiting a long time, so he thinks a short sermon is in order. MJ tells Tommy that she can’t believe this is happening. The officiant explains the sofreh aghd, and the significance of each item on the table. It’s similar to the new year’s table, except for the eggs equaling the number of children to come. Next is the sugar ceremony. The sugar cloth is held over the couple. MJj nearly trips on Julio, who is wandering around, probably looking for food. The officiant asks Tommy if he takes MJ, and he says, abso-effing-lutely. The officiant says, elegantly put. In his interview, Mike says it was in true Tommy fashion. They love each other so much, it oozes from them. He’s happy MJ found Tommy. He’s rough around the edges, but his heart is pure, and his love for her abundant. The couple stands in front of the mirror. Tommy says he’s keeping the vows short, but MJ wants long vows. He says he’s never seen a smile like hers. She’s his kryptonite. She’s a smart, sexy, lunatic of a woman. He’s going to do everything he can every day to make her smile as much as possible. If he can do that, everything else will take care of itself. Vida says, thanks [sic] God.

MJ tells him that she couldn’t do the vows in advance. She says when she met him and started to love him more, all she wanted to do was love hm more. Reza starts laughing, and gets Tommy laughing. MJ tells Tommy, STFU; she’s talking to him. She says she can’t do this, and says, for better or worse blah-blah-blah. She tells Reza, get out of the frame. She tells Tommy that everybody there loves them, and he’s also one of those people. Tommy says, the bar is open. She says all she wants in life, is to make him feel more loved than today. The traditional do you take is done, and the rings are exchanged. MJ’s ring is the one her father gave to her mom. The officiant says the rings symbolize an unbroken circle of love. He tells the guests that the honey is tasted to sweeten their mouths for their first kiss. Reza holds the honey, and they dip their pinkies in, then feed each other. MJ and Tommy are pronounced husband and wife, and Tommy may kiss his bride. Everyone cheers. MJ and Tommy make out. In MJ’s interview, she says she was once that girl who wouldn’t put on a wedding dress, tried to convince her friends not to get married because they’d only get divorced, and couldn’t see a reason for marriage. She’s taking a leap of faith. What makes this so meaningful is that they’re doing it with their friends and family. It’s better than the prom or Valentine’s Day.

The reception décor is simple and elegant; white and gold everything. In Mike’s interview, he says he had insecurities, and projected them at weddings he was invited to. He realized it just wasn’t for him and Jessica, but hopes it works out for MJ and Tommy, and someday for him. Vida says this is her daughter’s wedding, so she can have the filet mignon and the lobster. Adam tells Reza that GG isn’t wearing her ring. Reza thinks that could mean one of two things. GG is growing or she hocked that MF’ing ring when she found out how much she could get. We flash back to the jeweler telling her it’s worth $165K.

The DJ introduces the newly married couple, and starts to spin. MJ wears a white lace jumpsuit. Sammy tells Reza it’s good to be in love with someone that much; it’s very sweet. Tommy and MJ dance, and everyone cheers again. Outside, Reza asks Adam if he liked the ceremony, and he says it was lovely. Reza says, thank God MJ was a trooper, and she had a great time. He talked to Brent, and the house is on track. He feels good, and thinks they can put the condo on the market, and start looking for eggs. He’s cool with fronting the money, if they use the condo money to pay for the kid. That way, they’ve both kicked in. He doesn’t want to feel like it’s always him. He wants it to be a team effort. When it feels one-sided, he thinks it’s an imbalanced relationship. He wants an even playing field. Adam thinks he needs to communicate more. Reza tells Adam, zip it, which doesn’t go over well. Adam doesn’t like his tone. That escalated quickly. Reza says, chill. Adam fronts like a white person in front of others, but at home, annihilates him. He calls Adam slick as sh*t, and says he needs a team player. Adam says he’s on board, and they’ll use the proceeds from the condo to get the eggs. Reza wants a pact from now going forward; it’s going to be a team effort. He sits on Adam’s lap, saying he wants to be Adam for a moment. In Reza’s interview, he says sometimes weddings bring out the best in people. Maybe the this one is having a profound impact on Adam. He’s showing Reza that he gets it.

Mike talks to his mom outside. He tells her that he gets emotional at weddings. In his interview, he says his mom is his best friend. She’s a cancer survivor, and his confidant. He tells her a lot of baggage came along when he got divorced. He’s the reason his parents were upset. His mom says she was unhappy for him when she saw him sad. He says it was hard for him, and she asks if he was innocent in the relationship. In Mike’s interview, he says he’s the first one to divorce in his family. He wishes he could do it over, and not make the same mistakes. His mom tells him that he’ll find the person who will take him and his baggage. She guarantees it. She tells him to put the divorce behind him. Mike is ready forgive himself, and move on. He’s ready for the woman of his dreams, having children, and tackling forty.

Everyone hits the dance floor. Reza asks GG about Nema, and she says she’s having fun with him. In her interview, she says she feels like a vixen (not a word we hear very often today); very Angelina Jolie. She tells Reza that Nema helped her a lot lately. We flash back to Nema reworking her website. Reza says Nema is super into her, so he’s more present. GG says he’s been there. She kept thinking he was going to try something, but he hasn’t. He’s been genuine. He’s good people. Mike and Shervin join them. Reza says he and GG were having a moment. Forty years from now, they’ll look back and say, do you remember? He says GG is like a flower blossoming. Someone hacked the garden, but she’s blooming again. Nema and Destiney sit with them. Reza says GG was saying some beautiful sh*t about Nema. GG says he’s been nothing but helpful. She thought it came with a catch, but it didn’t. Nema says anything for her. Reza says they might talk sh*t, but they have their moments. They’ve been together through thick and thin, and when push comes to shove, if any of them needed anything, they could pick up the phone, and one of them would be there. They’re hard on each other, but they step the f**k up.

The cake is next. It’s square, white layers, gilded in gold filigree and flowers. They feed each other without incident, although there was a tense moment. In his interview, Reza says his biggest fear was that he and Adam would have to take care of MJ because she’d be alone, but when Tommy came into her life, he had hope. Now she’s married. MJ climbed her way up to the top, broke nails, and lost a weave along the way, but she did it. He tells the guests that he told Tommy, don’t let the gay exterior fool you. He’d eff him up if he ever hurt MJ. Reza is honored and humbled to be part of the wedding. He didn’t think it would ever happen. He thanks MJ for the honor, and thanks Tommy for treating her like the queen she is. He tells Tommy that he’s one of them. He congratulates them, and wishes them both the best in life. He loves them. Best man Johnny gets up. He says Tommy has made a lot of boneheaded decisions in his day, but joining Tinder wasn’t one of them. It was certainly love at first swipe. He recognizes those who are there in spirit, including heaven’s newest angel from the group, King Shams. We all tear up.

Bagpipers walk through, playing Amazing Grace. MJ says they vibrated into her soul. It was an amazing homage to her father, and Tommy filling the void as her husband. It’s time to embrace a new chapter.

MJ says they’re all severe works in progress. The wedding is a rite of passage for all of them. She knows they’re all inching their way to growing up. It’s time to make some babies. The dancing continues.

Next time, The Reunion.

The Real Housewives of Dallas

The ladies arrive in Copenhagen is. Stephanie still doesn’t know where it is, and hopes they speak English. Cary says the circus has arrived. They get on the limo bus and have champagne. Today is a chill day, with a nice dinner at the hotel. Tomorrow is the album release party. Kameron says she’ll wear her leather jacket. LeeAnne asks who she is. She wants Kameron to go gangster rapper. Kameron took a pill to sleep, and don’t think it’s worn off. Kameron spills champagne on D’Andra, and says karma’s a bitch. In her interview, D’Andra says Kameron is the bitch who spilled the champagne.

They’re met with more drinks at the hotel, and are led to the penthouse suites. The design is as you would think, Scandinavian furniture, sparse clean lines, and minimalist beautiful. Stephanie thinks everything is small and it’s super weird. Kameron brought three pairs of pajamas, but that’s just the beginning. She unpacks a thousand items. When she gets to the shoes, she explains that some of them have a two-hour limit. LeeAnne is astounded at the amount she’s packed.

D’Andra tells Cary that she’s looking forward to the trip, but dreads hearing that people are talking about her. Cary says the only thing they’re talking about is Beaver Creek. In her interview, Cary says the entire Dallas society wasn’t there, so one of six leaked the information. She’s guessing Kameron or LeeAnne.

In her interview, Stephanie explains Brandi’s idea of getting really drunk to see if LeeAnne will call her an alcoholic to her face. Stephanie thinks Brandi should just tell LeeAnne that she knows what was said, and face her head-on. Pretending to be an alcoholic to have a conversation seems passive aggressive. I’d use the word stupid, but okay.

Cary says Copenhagen is a trendy food destination, and food is her thing. She’s discovered a Michelin Star restaurant where they go for dinner. The waitress tells them a new menu was launched today. Sweetbread is on it, and Stephanie thinks fancy food is disgusting. People trying to act like they know what they’re talking about, and paying a high price for sh*t no one else wants to eat. Kameron says the menu is intense, and can’t find anything she wants. She likes hamburgers and fries, and doesn’t have a sophisticated eating palate. Um… she doesn’t have a sophisticated turn of phrase either. I think it would be just palate. They toast to Denmark.

Carly says, tomorrow, they have a choice of touring a brewery or a cooking class. Brandi announces that she likes all alcohol. She’s doing the brewery. In her interview, Brandi’s plan is to be an alcoholic, so she’s getting as wasted as possible. Game on. Scallops arrive, but Kameron can’t do raw. The waitress gives everyone a shot, and tells them to say, skoal, when they drink. LeeAnne gives Brandi hers. I guess it’s not that tasty, since Brandi ends up drinking nearly everyone’s shot, then has some wine. Cary takes it away. In LeeAnne’s interview, she says Brandi is proving her point; she’s a drunk. I can’t believe LeeAnne can’t figure this out. Brandi makes a pyramid with the glasses, and Cary puts a shot glass on top. In her interview, Brandi says she was a Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleader. She knows how to make a pyramid. Stephanie didn’t know Brandi was going to go this far, playing a game with LeeAnne, and thinks she’s only hurting herself.

Cary asks about LeeAnne’s wedding plans. LeeAnne says when she gets back, she and Rich are checking out the Cathedra of Hope. Cary asks how dress shopping went. LeeAnne wishes D’Andra had been there, but D’Andra says LeeAnne didn’t call until the day of, and she’s busy running a business. Cary wonders why they’re having trouble communicating. Kameron asks why D’Andra didn’t call LeeAnne, and D’Andra says it’s none of her business. It’s between her and LeeAnne, not the three of them. LeeAnne says, it’s a lot. She doesn’t know where this is coming from. Cary wants to hear both sides, and Kameron tells her to watch out; she’ll get attacked. In her interview, Cary says Kameron likes to push buttons, and D’Andra is like the dashboard on a 747. D’Andra feels ganged up on. Kameron says she’s being a good friend, but D’Andra doesn’t feel like she is, and tells her to stay out of it. Kameron tells D’Andra to look at her level, and asks if this is how D’Andra’s mother yelled at her. At this point, people are starting to look at them. D’Andra says Kameron is condescending, and she’s not putting up with this crap from her or anyone else. Kameron asks what she did to D’Andra. D’Andra says Kameron left the party after Jeremy’s mural unveiling. Kameron says she felt attacked, and felt D’Andra was also attacking her mother-in-law. D’Andra says she never did that, and Kameron calls her a liar. D’Andra says she’s full of crap. In her interview, Cary says they’re both acting like monkeys in the restaurant. Kameron is worried about the vocal level. Brandi looks like she has a headache. Kameron says D’Andra has gone from a butt plug to a butt dart, and leaves.

Cary decides to pay the bill. Brandi wonders what’s happened. She’s so drunk, she has no clue what’s going on. Her plan was foiled. D’Andra sees Kameron at the elevator. D’Andra doesn’t want to be near her, and Kameron says, disgusting. Kameron says she’s never done anything to D’Andra, and D’Andra came against her at the lake, and attacked her. D’Andra says, no, you, and Kameron calls her a psycho. She can’t be around D’Andra; she’s delusional. In her interview, Kameron says this is the second time she’s been attacked. She tells the other girls that D’Andra is nuts. The elevator opens, and D’Andra is in it, like this is some creepy horror film. Kameron says she’s not getting in. She says she doesn’t know what happened at the lake, and D’Andra says blah-blah-blah Jeremy. Kameron says she doesn’t even know him. Drunk Brandi goes back and forth between D’Andra and Kameron, trying to shush them and make peace. Eventually, the group splits up, and some go with D’Andra. Kameron asks why she would hurt D’Andra. LeeAnne agrees it’s ridiculous. Kameron says she’d never intentionally hurt someone. Stephanie thinks D’Andra feel judged by her mom, and everyone else. She claims she doesn’t care, but Stephanie thinks she does.

LeeAnne says people get angry, but no matter how much buttons are pushed, it can be expressed without elevating. LeeAnne says she’s doing well so far. D’Andra says LeeAnne has only been at it six months. LeeAnne says D’Andra is not always right, but she’s acting like she is. In her interview, LeeAnne says, grow the eff up. Kameron keeps asking what she did. Cary doesn’t know. In Cary’s interview, she says she’s never seen Kameron this upset, and thinks it’s because it involves her family. LeeAnne comes back, saying D’Andra wants to prove she’s right. Kameron says, tell her she can win; she doesn’t care. In Kameron’s interview, she says D’Andra has been poking at LeeAnne for months, but she better watch out. D’Andra joins the group, and says clearly, something was up. How would Jimmy know if Kameron hadn’t told her? Kameron says Jimmy is her best friend; of course she told her. In her interview LeeAnne calls bullsh*t on D’Andra not caring what people think. She cares so much, it’s pathetic. Kameron asks why D’Andra is bringing her mother-in-law into it. LeeAnne tries to say something, and D’Andra tells her, shut up. LeeAnne stands up on the couch, like she’s going to crack D’Andra. Brandi tells them, stop it, and gets in between them. LeeAnne tells D’Andra, don’t tell her to shut up, and don’t put her finger in her face. Kameron asks D’Andra to leave the room. In her interview, Cary says, congratu-effing-lations. D’Andra got LeeAnne to react. LeeAnne says she’s going to bed. D’Andra’s aggressive behavior is rubbing off on her. She’s exhausted with D’Andra never being wrong, and everyone else is. She’s exhausted. Her weave is exhausted. The panty liner in her underwear is exhausted. In Stephanie’s interview, she says the two phrases, I’m sorry and I’m wrong, go a long way. Everyone should try it. She thinks Brandi wants more show, since her plan didn’t work. It was the worst idea. Go home. You’re drunk. LeeAnne tells Kameron, this is insane. Stephanie needs a tequila shot and a hug. Cary says, best first night of a trip ever.

The view from the rooms is spectacular. Stephanie asks Brandi if she’s alive. In her interview, Stephanie guesses Brandi’s plan executed perfectly in her mind, but she got nothing accomplished except throwing up fish. Bleh. Stephanie says Brandi sure showed LeeAnne last night, and I laugh. Brandi feels like a pile of sh*t. Kameron thinks she knows which one of them needs anger management, and does an imitation of D’Andra, using a devil voice. LeeAnne says if D’Andra’s head turns around, she’s getting out.

Cary and D’Andra are going to learn to make Danishes in Denmark. D’Andra is glad to be cooking after last night. She’s shocked an adult woman would try to clock her. Cooking is relaxing; her therapy. And she’s in need of therapy. Stephanie tells LeeAnne that if she wants to go beering (not a word in any language), meet them there. They ask the driver how far away the brewery is, but he doesn’t understand English. They try again using Scandinavian accents.

Brandi says after throwing up all morning, she’s ready for some hair of the dog. They taste different beers. One is called Jerry’s Hole, and they make jokes the bartender doesn’t get, and it’s probably just as well.

Cary goes to the cooking class. D’Andra joins her. It’s going to be just the two of them.

Kameron thinks the brewery is adorable. It does sort of look like Ikea in bar form. In her interview, LeeAnne says she’s opting for beer, which she can’t stand, instead of being with D’Andra. Kameron doesn’t know what there is to work out; she did nothing wrong. D’Andra twists everything. If Karmeron says, hi, she’ll say she’s being attacked. Brandi says D’Andra is in a better space today. LeeAnne tells her to go ask if D’Andra isn’t going to poke her today.

Cary and D’Andra bake.

LeeAnne says she wanted to punch D’Andra. Thank God, Cary grabbed her arm. It’s a good thing she left. LeeAnne and Kameron think it’s not fair. LeeAnne feels like her standards are Statue of Liberty level, and D’Andra’s are in the basement. In LeeAnne’s interview, she wants to keep focused on her peaceful journey. She’s not letting it happen. Everyone agrees that LeeAnne has been great with holding her temper, but Brandi doesn’t say anything.

D’Andra tells Cary that she can’t move forward. When she tries to talk to one, the other inserts themselves; it’s like a tag team. In her interview, D’Andra feels badly about how she handled her anger. She was wrong. The chef calls the pastry spandauer, and they sit to eat. Cary says they just made Danishes in Denmark, and they clink glasses.

Stephanie and Brandi call home. Stephanie calls her husband, and Brandi calls her mom. They get ready for the album release party. Cary says it’s going to be hipster. She’s worried about seeing her family. It’s been twenty-five years. What if they think she’s weird or don’t like her? Cary says hello to a million cousins. In her interview, she says it’s calming to be around family. She’s still shaken from the blow-up. The band’s name is Eugenia, and comprised of Cary’s cousin Camilla, and her husband Johan. They’re well-known on the European Indy pop culture circuit. LeeAnne says it’s a cool vibe; they don’t fit in there. Kameron thinks she fits in, since it’s an artsy crowd. The band is pretty good. I like foreign pop, and I’m feeling it. Carly hasn’t seen Camilla since she was eight-years-old, but she feels a sense of joy. She feels connected, and being there is surreal. It feels like her dad handed off the torch, and she wants to pass it to Zuri, so she can have that connection in the future.

Back at the hotel, everyone goes to the bar. Cary thanks them for coming, and they do some shots. LeeAnne thanks her for letting them share her experience. Cary says she wanted to cry at the party, but then she felt like a dork. LeeAnne says they’ve all come a long way. In Brandi’s interview, she says she tried to drink everything on the table. Her plan didn’t work, but she’s not letting that bitch get away with it.

Brandi tells LeeAnne that Mama Dee claimed LeeAnne called Brandi an alcoholic. They had a conversation at the lake. LeeAnne doesn’t believe she said that. We flash back to her telling Dee that Brandi only seems to appreciate D’Andra when she’s drunk. Cary says LeeAnne said Brandi was an alcoholic at Kameron’s party. LeeAnne says the only time she’s seen Brandi lately is when she’s been drinking. We flash back to that… and that… and that, and LeeAnne says that doesn’t mean she’s an alcoholic. Kameron doesn’t think she said that; it’s a big word. In Cary’s interview, she thinks Kameron is being a p*ssy, siding with LeeAnne because they’re better friends. Brandi says the adoption isn’t final yet, and something like that could hurt her. LeeAnne apologizes, but Brandi doesn’t think she’s sorry. LeeAnne tells Brandi that she said it in a moment of anger. In her interview, LeeAnne says it’s not like she calls up adoption agencies, and says that Brandi is an alcoholic. Stephanie tells Brandi, no one thinks that. Kameron hugs Brandi, who has something hard to say. She was never an alcoholic, but when she was at her lowest point, she was drinking a bottle of wine a night. And there have been triggers going on. In Brandi’s interview, she says Bryan had been traveling a lot with work, and things got harder. We flash back to when they were having dinner in a restaurant, and he walked out. She says she closed herself off, and resorted to drinking wine. In her interview, LeeAnne doesn’t think Brandi is sophisticated enough to be an alcoholic. They have to hide their problem. She thinks Brandi is just a drunk.

To be continued…

Next time, jumping on trampolines, a canal trip, nakey swimming, and Brandi calls LeeAnne a manipulative bitch.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At The Floating Rib fundraiser, Felicia tells Laura that she’s heard positive things about her campaign. Not-Doc says his wife is a rock star. He has the feeling tonight will be unforgettable. Laura says they’re raising funds for a good cause. Thunder starts to rumble outside. Felicia says they’re raising money for mental health, but if Laura gets a boost, that’s even better. Laura says tonight isn’t about her. Not-Doc says he wants her to be the next mayor.

Carly is glad to see Michael. She wonders if he’s there because he feels obligated, and tells him that he doesn’t have to be okay. It’s okay if he wants to be at home. He tells her that he wasn’t in the best place when they last talked, but thinks he’s taking a step in the right direction. Carly asks, how so?

At the pier, Josslyn is in a Princess Leia costume, and Cameron is Han Solo. He says he’ll do whatever she says as long as he gets paid. He thinks she makes a great Princess Leia, since she has bossy down pat. She complains that he didn’t bring Chewbacca, but he says Chewy is eight feet tall, not a stuffed animal. She flashes back to when Oscar gave her some dragons for her Daenerys costume last year.

Oscar buses tables at Charlie’s. Drew walks in, and asks if he has a second, but Oscar tells Drew he has nothing to say. And he has a lot of work to do. Charlie’s is pretty empty, and Drew says he might buy that excuse if Julian had bothered to decorate for Halloween. Oscar tells him that Julian is against a kids’ holiday being co-opted by drunk adults. Drew says they want to give Oscar space, but they were worried. Kim is freaking out. Oscar says he’s sorry to ruin their night, but Drew says he came because he wanted to see if Oscar was okay. He hasn’t been home in days. Oscar says he found a place to stay. Drew wonders about money for rent, but Oscar says, they’re nice people. Drew wants him to elaborate; fill in the blanks. Oscar asks, why? So Drew can drag him home, and force him to go through the drug trial?

Julian sees Kim at the hospital. She says she’s been trying to reach him, and he says he’s been trying to avoid giving her the bad news. He wasn’t able convince Alexis to drop the case.

Chase walks in with Jordan, and Laura says she can always count on the PCPD. Chase says they have a killer turnout, and Jordan says mental health awareness makes their job easier. Alexis joins them, saying she wouldn’t miss a worthy cause, and it should also boost Laura’s campaign. Laura says that’s not what tonight is about, but Alexis says it’s a collateral benefit. Laura notices Alexis is wearing her mother’s watch. Alexis says it’s one of the few things left of her mother’s and one of the few really nice things she has. Laura tells Alexis it’s fortuitous that Valentin found it, but in her experience, any gift from a Cassadine comes with a hidden cost.

Nina and Valentin sit in front of the fire at Windemere. Valentin says he’s sorry the storm inconvenienced her, but Charlotte will be delighted to see her at breakfast. She tells him that she’s not staying overnight. The rain has stopped, and she’s getting changed. Valentin says the coast guard has closed traffic to the island. Nina thinks the storm isn’t that bad, and the lights go out. She says, of course.

Curtis and Jordan pretend they’re in Casino Royale. Jordan thinks they’re overdressed for a harvest festival, but Curtis says they should get credit for just showing up. They kiss.

Lulu tells Laura that she checked with her editor on Laura’s write-in campaign. Laura wonders why everyone thinks tonight is about her campaign, and Alexis tells her, welcome to politics. Lulu is proud of her mother. She loves Ned, but no one is more qualified. Laura says she’s just hoping her presence in the election gets Ned to look at other issues about mental health. Alexis says, too late. Ned and Olivia-Q walk in.

Valentin tells Nina the power is out on the island, and for some reason, the generator didn’t go on. He hopes the fire is keeping her warm enough. They clink glasses. Valentin asks if he’s making her uncomfortable, but Nina says, no. He tells her it brings back memories. His favorite part of the evening was sitting with her by the fire. We flash back to them getting busy in front of the fireplace, and Nina says she remembers.

Michael tells Carly that he’s attending a group who meets at the hospital. She says he’s been through a lot. She took his strength for granted, and didn’t realize how much he was holding in. Not just about Jonah, but being in prison and AJ’s murder. Michael tells her it’s something he has to do on his own. It’s something that has to belong to him and only him. Carly understands. Michael leaves to get a drink, and Ava approaches the table. She says, Michael’s capacity to forgive is astonishing. He must get it from his father’s side – the one Sonny murdered. Carly says if she wants to rehash AJ’s death, let’s do it.

Mac has brought costumes, and Felicia tells him it’s not a costume party. He says it’s Halloween, and asks not-Doc if he’s too good for their alter-egos. Felicia likes it, but not-Doc doesn’t feel that he should resurrect Eve. Mac says he’s Eve; Doc is Norma. Not-Doc says it might seem like they’re making light of an important and sensitive evening, and Mac thinks, maybe it’s time kill off those two broads. Not-Doc says he couldn’t agree more.

Ava wonders if Carly forced Michael to forgive the man who murdered his father. Carly says Ava should be grateful Sonny shot AJ, since he was trying to strangle her for Connie’s murder. Ava says she was exonerated, but Carly says the charges were dropped because there wasn’t enough evidence. She says it’s strange that Ava is there tonight, since she didn’t give a damn about Morgan’s mental health. Ava is sick of being blamed for Morgan’s death. She wasn’t responsible; Olivia-J planted the car bomb. Carly says Ava is the reason Morgan spiraled out of control, and the reason he got in the car. Sonny will be coming for her one day, and it won’t end pretty. Not-Doc looks at Ava.

Josslyn bemoans not having a Wookie, but Cameron says he doesn’t do action figures or stuffed animals. Josslyn wonders if she has to beg for every fake boyfriend thing. She says they have to post a selfie, and Cameron tells her to be careful what she posts online. She says Oscar has to see them, and he says his mom has been giving him the third degree. She’s worried about the trouble they might get into. He gets close, and we think he’s going to kiss her, but he sprays her with silly string.

Oscar tells Drew that he’s not changing his mind. Drew says no one wants to involve the cops. He wanted to make Oscar was sure safe. Oscar wonders how it feels, not having vital information about his health. Drew says he also wanted to update Oscar. He deserves the same information they have. They learned that lesson the hard way. He tells Oscar the trial starts on December 1st, and they still have time to hit the road.

Kim thanks Julian for trying to reason with Alexis. She thought he could get through. She doesn’t understand how anyone in their right mind could take on the case. Alexis is a mother; how can she sleep at night knowing she’s signing Oscar’s death certificate? Julian says Alexis believes Oscar is old enough to have a say, and he agrees with her.

Laura tells Ned it’s nice of him to attend, and he says the more attention they bring to mental health, the better the city will be. Olivia says they pledge to match all of the donations, and Ned says tomorrow, he’s laying out a special plan. He focused on the economy, but now that business is booming, he’s going to refocus on mental health and social services. Carly thinks they need to talk about Ferncliff.

Valentin tells Nina it’s a special occasion; the breakfast menu should reflect it. Nina says he’s assuming the power will be back in the morning. She accuses him of setting it up to get her to spend the night. She says he thought he bamboozled her. Valentin and I both say, bamboozled? She bought the whole thing about the harbor traffic, but he pushed it too far when he arranged a power outage. He says she knows it’s the first thing to go in a storm. Contrary to folklore, his family doesn’t control the weather. It’s a series of unfortunate events. Nina says, for her, and Valentin says he’ll cherish every moment with her. She wonders how she’s supposed to believe him.

Ned asks Carly, what about Ferncliff? She says she knows firsthand about the abuse there. Olivia says it’s state run, but Ned says she has a good point. The city should take a more active role in monitoring it. He invites Carly and Laura to form a task force after his inauguration. He hopes they’ll consider his offer. Alexis thinks he’s speaking too soon. A poll was just posted, and Laura is surging.

Kim says Julian isn’t being fair. He tells her that he didn’t say he agreed, and Kim says he didn’t have to. Alexis is looking at it like a lawyer. She’s looking at it as a mother. If she does nothing, her child dies. If she has to fight in court, so be it. She’s willing to fight as long as it saves Oscar’s life. Julian asks what if it doesn’t, and they spent each moment fighting?

Drew tells Oscar about a meteor shower in November in central Florida. He suggests they rent an RV, drive along the coast, and have an adventure. It might get weird, but it’ll be fun. Oscar says it passes over their way every year; it’s not that special. Drew says someone told him to find grace in everyday little moments. Regardless of how special the even it, spending time with Oscar is special. Oscar says he can’t leave because of the lawsuit. Drew knew that, didn’t he?

Nina asks if Valentin is saying to put their cards on the table, and Valentin says she’s not being completely honest. Look back at his mistakes and lies, and ask herself if there was ever a time when she thought she didn’t mean the world to him? He screwed everything up, but he knew the moment he laid eyes on her, that she was special. As soon as they were married, he knew he’d always love her and never stop. Nina still thinks it was purposely set up, but Valentin swears on everything he holds dear, he didn’t ground the launch to force her to stay. Nina says he’s using it to his advantage, and he says, yes. He’d use any advantage to remind her how good they had it. He’ll never give up hope. One day, he’ll say the right thing to convince her to come back. They kiss YES! I love them together.

NO! Nina says, it’s a mistake, and Valentin says, it’s fate. She says the kiss shouldn’t have happened. What if Charlotte had walked in. Valentin says she would be thrilled, but Nina says it would have gotten her hopes up.

Alexis tells Laura she’s got 28% of the vote. Olivia congratulates her. She’s shown how important it is to get involved. She should be proud. Geez, she might as well pat Laura on the head. Laura thanks her. She tells Alexis that she can’t win at 28%, but Alexis says she has momentum. She can gain support in the next week. Not-Doc says, a lot can happen in the next few days. Even tonight.

Josslyn calls Cameron a jerk. He says she didn’t see it coming. Josslyn says she knows how to prank. When he least expects it, payback is coming. Wait and see. Ha-ha! That’s what I tell people. It could be ten minutes or ten years.

Oscar says Drew wants him out of town. He and Kim cooked it up together. A stupid father/son field trip, where Drew would force him to be a science experiment. Drew says he wants to spend as much time as he can with. He understands he’s the dad Oscar never asked for. He’s only been in a tiny portion of Oscar’s life, but he and Scout are his entire life. They’re all he has, and he’s not ready to let Oscar go.

Kim tells Julian that she knows the treatment will help. Julian says she’s a doctor. Debates regarding the quality vs quantity of life must be common. Kim says, for those who’ve already lived a full life. There’s the possibility this could buy Oscar more time; maybe enough to be cured. She’s not giving up without a fight.

Carly thanks not-Doc for looking out for her at Ferncliff, and protecting her protect from Mary Pat. He says to try and put it behind her. She says she has so many questions. The  guy next to her was desperate to communicate. He was using Morse code. Not-Doc says he explained before that the patient belongs there. Carly says he must be able to tell her something. He gets testy, and says he can’t, and she should know when to back off.

Chase sees Michael, and says he noticed Michael duck out. They haven’t talked while; is he okay? Michael doesn’t know. He’s been thinking about Jonah a lot. The doctors say the trauma didn’t cause his death, but he still goes over it anyway. One choice causes a ripple effect. Who knows what would have happened if Nelle gave birth in an actual hospital? Chase says it’s Michael’s mind playing tricks. He’s giving Nelle what she wants. Michael asks if Chase is doing the same thing, and Chase says he called Zack’s family. They were relieved it was over, but he kept thinking that he prolonged their nightmare by getting involved with Nelle in the first place. He’s not the hero in the story. Michael says he made things right. He owes it to himself to make peace with what happened. Chase says, back atcha.

Nina tells Valentin that she doesn’t doubt they love each other. But if she lets him in to her heart again, he’ll hurt her. He won’t intend to, but he will. It’s who he is, and she’s not allowing it to happen again. Valentin says he’ll put candles in the guest bedroom, so Charlotte won’t get her hopes up. I make a sad face.

Carly asks if not-Doc is okay. He apologizes, saying he’s just protective of her. The patient next door is very dangerous, and where he belongs. She asks how he knows, and he says he looked into it. She asks why he didn’t say something, and he tells her that he’s not inclined to share information about patients. It’s illegal, and highly unethical. He sees Ava. She orders a martini, and he says, make it two. It would be a shame for her to drink alone.

Valentin sees Nina sleeping on the couch. He covers her, his hand lingering on her shoulder.

Ava says she doesn’t mind drinking alone; she doesn’t want pity. Not-Doc asks her, who said anything about pity? Ava says she saw Felicia giving him an earful. She’s sure Felicia couldn’t wait to lay all of her sins on his doorstep. Not-Doc says, like Morgan’s death. Those were other people’s choices. She switched his medication, but she didn’t force him to steal the car. Even if she had, she didn’t wire the car to explode. She’s as much to blame as a distillery is for a drunk driver. He looks forward to exploring what goes on in her mind.

Ned tells Olivia this doesn’t paint him as a beloved mayor. She says he’s a wonderful mayor. It’s easier to criticize than get in and do the work. Ned says she has to say; she loves him. She asks if she’s ever sugarcoated anything. It’s too little too late. If the election was in January or even next month, maybe he should be worried, but it’s hard for a write-in candidate to win. There’s no way she can catch up. Ned hopes she’s right.

Drew tells Oscar there’s so much he wants to show him; so much he hasn’t lived. Oscar appreciates that Drew asked him to go, but he needs to fight this. Drew says Oscar must be his son. it was a long shot. He tells Oscar, happy Halloween. Who says they can’t make Kilimanjaro? He says, goodnight, and leaves.

Kim tells Julian that Oscar is her life. He knows, and wants her to know, however she chooses to handle it, he’s with her all the way. Kim says it’s ironic that when there was no chance of him surviving, their relationship couldn’t have been stronger. Well, he didn’t know he wasn’t surviving either. She says, now he won’t even look her in the eye. She going to keep trying. She’s convinced he can have a happy, full life. It’s worth the risk. If she can’t get through to him, maybe someone else will. Josslyn.

Josslyn wants to take another selfie. Cameron doesn’t care, as long as he gets paid. She tells him, if money is all he loves, it’s what he shall receive. She says, look convincing. Look like he’s having fun. She says she is, and he says, him too.

Not-Doc tells Laura, the games are about to begin. Laura tells everyone that they’ve had a chance to drink and mingle, it’s time for the first mini competition. Ten dollars a try to win a five-hundred dollar gift certificate to Wyndham’s. She turns the floor over to Mac, who says it’s bobbing for apples. No one wants to.

Cameron tells Josslyn that they can still make it to the party. He sees something on the ground, and picks it up.

Laura asks not-Doc to set a good example and be the first, but he says he has to go. He’s working on the sleep study, and is gathering important data over five consecutive nights. She says they’re ships passing in the night. He says he’s certain she’ll give Port Charles a night to remember, and leaves. Laura announces that all the proceeds are going to metal health watch groups, which are vitally important for everyone. She offers a swimming cap. She asks Ned, but Carly says she’ll buy a chance.

Josslyn asks Cameron what he found. He tells her someone lost their ID card, and tosses it. It belongs to Mary Pat.

Carly ties her hair back, and bends to bob for an apple. Mary Pat’s head pops up in the middle of them.

Next time, Nina says she’ll handle Ava, Laura wonders who committed such a heinous act, and Ava screams.

The Shahs of Sunset

Tommy and MJ go to couples’ therapist Nazila. MJ says the stress level is high with planning the wedding. There’s been a new family dynamic since Sham’s passing. She’s seen Vida’s nurturing side, but when the wedding dress came out not so good, the wrath of Vida did too. Tommy says she’s been laisse faire about the wedding, and it’s a tough spot to be in if the dress isn’t what she wants when she didn’t play a part in it. MJ says she’s not seeing the dress until the day before the wedding. Nazila asks what else she needs. MJ says they’ve yet to receive her mom’s blessing. We flash back to Vida’s disapproval of Tommy when he and MJ first got together. Tommy thinks Vida was afraid she’d lose MJ, but when Shama got sick, they were the Three Musketeers, and Vida realized that whatever happened, they’d be there. MJ starts crying because she’s happy. Nazila wonders if they’ve asked Vida about the blessing. MJ says they haven’t; she needs to think about it. In her interview, MJ can’t be certain her mom will be supportive. Tommy says Vida doesn’t like to be put on the spot, and MJ says she’ll talk privately to Vida at the rehearsal dinner. In MJ’s interview, she says this could affect the quality of life as a family. As tough as Vida is, MJ has unrelenting respect and love for her.

Destiney meets Reza for lunch. He toasts to finding her dad. In her interview, Destiney says the journey of finding her father started a few years ago. If she didn’t try, she’d feel terrible if he died without her telling him that he meant more to her than he thinks. Monique joins them. The man she thought was a possible uncle, turned out not to be. She talked to everyone, but can find no US relatives. From what she understands, he’s not in the US. She tells Destiney, wherever he is, he loves her. Destiny says when you love something, you want to nurture it. Monique says, unless he’s busy with his own life. In her interview, Destiney says, men who have other families – you suck. Monique says Destiney might want him to have a family. In Reza’s interview, he says there’s a massive amount of Persian secrecy. They all know someone who has two families; one in Iran and one in the US. He thinks that’s what happened with Destiney’s dad. He tells Destiney that she has the assumption that men leave, but not every man is like that. They pick men who leave. Destiney says she’s the one who leaves. She’s become her father. Reza asks how that’s working for her. She’s not happy, and needs to open up. She doesn’t want to continue the same pattern; it ends with her. In Destiney’s interview, she says she’s glad she has people in her life who care, and understand her culture. She can say how she feels without judgement. She tells Reza that she couldn’t do any of it without him. He says he loves her.

Mike and his mom go to lunch.  In his interview, Mike says he and his family members have individual investment properties. The new project is being done as a family. His mom thinks they should sell it, make a profit, and buy something already developed. This project might take two years. His brothers don’t have the time, it’s all on him. Mike says through this project, they get leverage to the next one and the next. They’re not kids anymore. She says all families expectations are different. As a mother, she’s proud of how he’s looking to the future. it gives her a good feeling. Whatever he decides, she respects it, and backs him 1000%. In his interview, Mike says everyone wants their parents approval, but he also wants to win back his mom’s trust because of some bad decisions he made. We flash back to him deciding to get into real estate wit Reza. He thinks he can earn it back. His mom tells him to do it for his relationship with his brothers.

Adam and Reza visit Sheree and Dan, Reza’s business partners. In Reza’s interview, he says he grew up with his dad coming home and making it rain. Adam is conservative with money. Reza thinks if they do well, there will be a baby version of Sheree and Dan’s house down the street, and they’ll be neighbors. In his interview, he says if this doesn’t work out, he’ll never hear the end of it. The rest of the Shahs arrive. The evening is a celebration for Reza’s friends to show them what he’s done. Sheree and Dan are like family, and he wants them to meet his friends who are family. Reza likes being a part of something, from concept to product. It’s like giving birth. Reza says he’s seeing dollar signs. Hopefully, the shampoo line does well enough to pay for the baby. In Mike’s interview, he says Reza is a hard worker, but if he doesn’t get the product into stores, he’ll be stuck with inventory he doesn’t want. It happened to him with the shoes, and Asa with Diamond Water. $500K; he hopes Reza knows what he’s doing. Reza thanks everyone for coming, and they toast.

They go outside. There’s a nubile woman in a giant bubble, floating around the pool, and a fire dancer. Tommy says, because it’s Tuesday. Reza says, fifteen years ago, he couldn’t have imagined the life he has now. He imagined he’d be a single queen growing old ungracefully. He’s glad he got his sh*t together. It’s nice being where he’s at.

Reza and Adam go with Tommy to the cake tasting. Reza says you can’t have bad cake at a Persian wedding. It doesn’t matter if everything else is perfect, it’s all they’ll talk about. He’s been eating rice cakes and egg whites in preparation for the tasting. After his first bite, Tommy thinks people should get married just for the cake. Reza wants to find a cake that’s like MJ. It has to have a lot of flavors, because that bitch is flavorful. It also has to be big and attractive, since she’s that too. Adam asks Tommy if they’re having a traditional wedding, and Tommy says they’re having the ceremony outside. Reza explains that in a traditional non-Jewish Persian wedding, the bride and groom sit side by side with a mirror in front of them so they can see each other. They dip their pinkies in honey, and put it in each other’s mouths. Tommy thinks it’s erotic. Salted caramel and lemon berry are the winners. Reza tells cake baker Joshua that he killed it.

MJ goes for a facial treatment, and Destiney meets her there. She’s having micro needling done, and then her own blood gets put on her face. She’s never tried it before, and in her interview, MJ doesn’t know whether she’ll have a bride bloody face, like a scene from Carrie. Her mom always told her to never try something new for the first time before an important life event, but she doesn’t care. It’s worth the risk. The wedding is in two days, and she needs to look beautiful. Destiney can’t watch; she doesn’t like needles or blood. A vial of blood is taken, and the dermatologist explains that there are thirty-six needles in the device. MJ says, 36 pricks, and they laugh. The plasma is called liquid gold, and applied to the face afterward. In her interview, Destiney says, it’s like a golden shower for your face, which leads me to believe she doesn’t know what that term means. MJ whines that her face is already swollen, and the doctor says it will go away by the end of the day. In MJ’s interview, she says her face could look like a giant herpes explosion.

GG is shooting a commercial for Wusah commercial. Her mom joins her for support. GG says she’s never had a career, a business, or had to dress up for a meeting. She gets ready to film, and has a hard time getting started. The building is in an industrial zone, and trucks keep going by. She can’t get her lines together. She says the old her would have been gone. She finally nails it. In her interview, GG says she never had an attachment to anything. It’s weird being attached to a business. After a long day of meetings, she cries. She’s scared it’s going to bite her in the ass like so many things in life have. She hopes she’s doing the right thing.

MJ calls Nema. He tells her that he’s buying his first piece of real gold. He says it’s a coming full circle Persian moment. He has his gay broker and his bodyguard. Reza has the negotiating skills, and Shervin is the muscle. They meet Nema at the store. Reza tells Nema that every year he got a pahlavi; a gold coin. In his interview, Reza says Nema is like a sponge. He wants as much Persianity as possible. He missed out on it growing up. Nema is feeling a chain. He’s okay with being a basic bitch. Reza picks out a few chains for Nema to check out. In Nema’s interview, he says, everything happens for a reason. His marriage and divorce happened so he could find his own happiness. Part of which, was connecting with his culture; something he’d been missing his whole life. Because Mike took his sister out, he connected with a group of friends. He says his new friends have been more influential to his cultural growth than anyone in his life. Reza says he’s happy Nema is getting the chain he got when he was sixteen. Shervin welcomes him to the club.

MJ’s childhood friend, Kerry, arrives. She flew there from the east coast for the wedding. She’s going with MJ to get gifts for her party and helpers. MJ would have been running errands with her dad and Kerry. She and Shams loved doing everything together. She thinks the three of them are together in spirit. They’re go to the venue to pay them, and MJ wonders if she should be concerned, since it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to tomorrow. She has so many things to worry about at the last minute. YOLO. You’re not counting Your money today. Just spending it for a pretty effing six-hour party.

Adam and Reza get to the rehearsal dinner first. MJ can’t believe her dad won’t be walking her down the aisle. Vida tells her, don’t cry. He’s alive in their hearts. Be happy. The reason they are there is because of Shams. Tommy says she’s nailing it. Vida says MJ is there because of Sham’s sperm. At the dinner, Reza orders a martini. The bartender says they have no martini glasses, and Reza says he doesn’t do those anyway. A gay guy holding a martini glass is a little too cliché. MJ says it’s traditional to have a rehearsal the night before the wedding, but everyone in the party arrived today. They’re just having dinner, and figuring it out tomorrow.

Reza says this makes it serious. MJ introduces Vida to Terry and Jimmy, Tommy’s adoptive family when he emancipated himself. Terry says Jimmy brought him home. When she asked how long he wanted to stay, he said eight years. In his interview, Tommy says they’re family. They all saved his life at one point or another. Nothing makes him happier than them being there. He tells MJ that he has to tinkle (I hardly ever hear that term), so she can talk to her mom. Vida asks if MJ is ready. MJ says she doesn’t know if you’re ever ready. Vida asks if she’s happy that Tommy is going to be her husband, and make her a happy grandmother. MJ says she’s 100% sure loves him; not a shadow of a doubt. Vida says that’s very good. MJ appreciates her support, and wants to show more love and compassion to her. She asks if Vida gives her blessing. Vida says she does; she really does. And she’s sure Shams gives his blessing too. In her interview, MJ thanks Vida for being nurturing, and coming around four years later. It’s the best gift Vida could give her. Reza thanks Vida, saying MJ has been wanting it for so long. In MJ’s interview, she suggest always manipulating a blessing from your mom before the wedding. That way, you can hold it over her head if anything goes wrong. Reverse guilt. Tommy says the blessing is very Don Corleone. They eat.

MJ gets up to give a speech. She says, the best thing is that no matter what goes wrong tomorrow, everyone is there for them. Then she turns into Miss Barbara from Romper Room, saying, I see you, and you, and you, saying everyone’s name. Tommy yells, good speech, and says, next it will be, I see a dish, I see a glass. She tells him, eff off, and he applauds. In MJ’s interview, she says getting there was so hectic, things fell by the wayside, and she didn’t practice the speech. She’s realizing she’s not prepared for tomorrow.

After dinner, Kerry and MJ crash in the bridal suite. MJ is going with the tradition that the groom and bride don’t see each other before they get to the altar. They order breakfast from room service. MJ sees she missed a FaceTime call from Adam, and calls him. She tells him that she hasn’t seen her dress. He says most brides would have seen it already, and she says shoulda, coulda, woulda. Breakfast arrives, and MJ says, the sourdough looks good and ample. She hasn’t written her vows yet, and it’s eight hours until the wedding. She wants to go back to the house to get some stuff, take a shower, and have a swim. Kerry is worried about the time, and MJ says don’t tell her what to do.

Mona and some other girls are getting glammed up at her place. Nema says her place is perfectly central for a pre-game party. If you can get past it being all vegan. She’s a few blocks away from MJ’s wedding. Mona chides Nema for eating the snacks she put out for the girls.

MJ can’t wrap her head around why it would take eight hours to get into a dress. They get to the house, and she walks Toya, and goes for a swim. Kerry tells her to keep it moving; they have five hours. MJ says don’t tell her what to do on her wedding day. Best man Johnny calls, and MJ asks him to make sure Tommy isn’t blackout drunk when he walks down the aisle.

Tommy tells his groomsmen that he’s getting sh*t faced. Johnny says he promised MJ that Tommy wouldn’t get annihilated. Tommy says that’s a promise Johnny can’t keep. He’s putting drinks in his pockets. There’s an open bar, and he’s going to close them down.

Next time, a wedding tsunami has taken over everything, GG takes off her ring, and in true MJ fashion, she’s even late for her own wedding.

⚠ Next time is The Shahs finale as well. I forgot to mention that next Tuesday is the finale for The Haves and the Have Nots. Whatever a finale means anymore. It could be six months or six years until the next season.
