General Hospital

🥢 Weekday Bites…

Monday:

Tracy returned and told Brook that she was a new woman. She wasn’t even upset no one was at her homecoming. Brook said they were giving her and Ned space. There was something important they had to discuss. Ned asked if he was hearing the dulcet tones of his mother, and they hugged. Tracy asked what she’d missed.

At the hospital, Britt asked Emma how Rocco was holding up. Emma had gotten him into this mess and might know if he needed anything. She wanted to help. Emma said she was the last person to buy Britt’s act.

Sonny went to Turner’s office and said he was surprised she’d called him in. She said it was unorthodox, but she was only doing this because of him.

Dante told Nathan there was no sign of Valentin, and Charlotte said they were wasting their time. Her dad wasn’t coming to get her.

Lulu told Rocco to change his shoes. The last thing they wanted people to think was that he wasn’t taking court seriously. Dante would be taking him to court. Rocco said, no, he wouldn’t be.

Laura met Sidwell at the MetroCourt Gardens and asked what the point was of having Boyle as a go-between if he was going to parade her around in public.

Jack told Josslyn that he needed the information Valentin had on Sidwell and the Five Poppies. He needed to talk to Valentin’s lawyer.

While Carly was on the phone saying she wasn’t coming in to work, Valentin looked through Sonny’s old kitchen for coffee. He asked if she had a French press, and said she could go to work, but she said she wasn’t leaving him alone in her house.

Gio welcomed Tracy home, and she said she had a wonderful time, but it was good to be back. Gio said he got everything on Brook’s grocery list. Tracy asked if they were opening a juice bar, and Gio said they loved kale. Tracy said nobody loved kale, and if they said that, they were lying. Gio left to get another bag, and Ned said he was changing his diet because of a health scare. He’d had a heart attack.

Emma said Britt hadn’t wanted kids and the only reason she got pregnant was to trap Emma’s dad. Stop acting like Rocco’s mom. Britt said she cared about Rocco, and Emma said, if she did, she’d leave him alone. If she wanted to help somebody, stick with her patients. Wait. She couldn’t see patients anymore. She was a paper pusher who lived above a diner. Britt said, temporarily, and Emma said, whatever Britt needed to tell herself.

Rocco told Lulu that he’d accept his punishment, but when was his dad going to accept that the break-in wasn’t Gio’s idea? Dante walked in.

Danny joined Charlotte and said they were going to court to support Rocco. Nathan said that would be a bad way to do it.

Sonny said maybe Dalton was scared and skipped town, but Turner said it was odd that he vanished with no paper trail. He said, you never knew what people were capable of when their backs were against the wall, and she said, present company included? He asked if she was insinuating he had something to do with Dalton’s disappearance. It was good for his grandson, but also good for her. Why waste time when they both knew Dalton lied and Rocco served his time? Do him and herself a favor and tell the judge she wanted to drop the charges.

Laura congratulated Sidwell. He’d won. She was under his thumb. But if he continued to broadcast their association, she’d be run out of office. The public knew what she thought of him. She’d been honest and transparent about her distaste for him. Keep Boyle as his messenger and keep his distance from her. He told her, don’t worry. It wouldn’t be a regular occurrence. This was a special occasion – he drummed on the table and said, drumroll – he was buying Sonny’s piers. All that was left was her full endorsement of the sale.

As Valentin rooted around for cereal and milk, Carly said he couldn’t mill around her house. He was a fugitive who’d committed treason and she wasn’t risking him ordering pizza and getting caught. He said he wasn’t enjoying this. His daughter was being watched, and he was stuck there with her because he made the mistake of trusting Jack.

Josslyn asked who Valentin’s lawyer was, and Jack said, a woman named Barbara Saunders. She’d visited Valentin twice in Steinmauer, but they hadn’t been able to track her down. Josslyn suggested she was in hiding, but he said he didn’t think she ever really existed.

Ned said thank God Gio found him. Gio saved his life. Tracy said she’d speak to his doctor and surgeon, and Brook said she’d get their numbers, but they said Ned was making a great recovery. Ned said the whole family took wonderful care of him, and Tracy said no one called her. She would have come home immediately… Oh. He didn’t want her there.

Felicia asked if Emma heard from her grandmother, but Emma said, not since Thanksgiving. Felicia said she was worried, but Emma said her grandmother could take care of herself. She was more worried about Gio and could use Felicia’s advice. Gio and his dad had a fight, and she wanted to be supportive without egging it on. She didn’t know how to help, but thought Felicia did.

Jack said Saunders’s ID was solid enough to get her in, but it was fake, and Josslyn said she thought they had facial recognition. Jack said, of course (🍷) they did, but Saunders was wearing glasses that had sophisticated infrared technology, and all the video footage was useless. Josslyn said, Saunders would have had to have an accomplice, and he said, find the woman, find Valentin. She said she’d get on it, and he told her to stay in touch with security at Steinmauer. She said she was on her way to her mom’s house, and he said he wanted a full report. She said she’d report on her mom’s safety, but her mom was entitled to her privacy.

Valentin said Jack left him holding the bag, and Charlotte was left twisting in the wind. That’s why he left Charlotte with Lulu. Carly said he did the right thing leaving Charlotte with her mother. Lulu was a great mom. She knew he loved Charlotte and would never poison her against him. And for what it was worth (🍷), Charlotte seemed to be thriving. Valentin said she was, but she needed him. If Carly needed him, he’d be in the attic. He left carrying his bowl of cereal along with the box.

Nathan told Charlotte and Danny that Rocco had a lot at stake. It wouldn’t be the smartest move for his co-conspirators to cheer him from the sidelines. Sometimes the best way to support someone was to stay out of it.

Rocco said he thought his mom was taking him, and Dante was looking after Charlotte. Lulu said he needed to change shoes and he went upstairs. Dante said Rocco would be fine, and Lulu said, not because of anything he was doing. He needed to wake up.

Laura said she’d opposed Measure C, but Sidwell said she’d opposed the Eminent Domain seize. She was all for free enterprise. She’d hold a press conference to announce the deal and make it clear that she looked forward to the new ownership. It was for the greater good. Local economics would improve and the city would benefit from reduced crime. And she’d take the credit. Everyone knew she had a close relationship with Sonny, and she’d make it clear that a deal had been brokered where everyone walked away happy. Except him. She drove a hard bargain. Doc came in and said he was glad they were both still there. He sat down, and Sidwell said it was a private conversation, but Doc said Laura was his wife and he wasn’t leaving.

Ned told Tracy that it had been his decision. He knew she’d get scared, and when she got scared, she picked fights with Olivia. Tracy said she never would… Maybe once. Ned wasn’t allowed to die before her. He said he had no intention of it. What was important was his family, including her. That’s why he was changing his ways for them.

Lulu said Dante and Rocco were in a bad place. Put it aside for today even if Rocco couldn’t. He was a teenager who thought Dante wasn’t treating his brother right. Rocco had more interest in fighting with him than thinking about his future. What if he defied Dante and took on more responsibility for the break-in? Dante said Sonny would be there and Rocco wouldn’t act out, but Lulu said she couldn’t take that chance. Dante was staying with Charlotte, and she was taking Rocco to court.

Turner said she couldn’t drop the case, and Sonny said she told him that she wouldn’t use Rocco against him. She said she wasn’t. Rocco was also the mayor’s grandson and if she showed preferential treatment to either of them, it could be considered corruption. Ric came in and asked if everything was all right, and Turner said she was explaining the laws Rocco broke to a concerned grandfather. Ric said Sonny wasn’t a lawyer. They wanted to see justice served and there were reasonable terms to be found. The disappearance of her only witness didn’t speak well of her case. She had no real evidence and would be locking up an innocent kid. At this stage of her career, was it what she wanted to be known for? Turner said, let’s go see a judge.

Walking into Sonny’s old kitchen, Josslyn said she went to the Christmas market and got an angel for Carly’s tree. She wanted to stay over on Friday, and they could have a Christmas cookie holiday party. Carly said she’d love nothing more, but Josslyn wasn’t coming over because of the holiday. Josslyn wanted to protect her.

Britt’s phone rang and she asked who it was and what they wanted. Jack said it was Jack Brennan from the WSB. He’d like her to come down to the office for a chat. It wasn’t a request. He could and would send agents if he had to.

Laura said she had no idea Doc would be joining them, and Doc said he didn’t think she should face her extortionist alone. Sidwell asked what he was talking about, and Laura said Doc knew everything. Doc said they didn’t keep secrets, and Sidwell said, wonderful. One of those kinds of marriages. How unfortunate.

Emma said Mac and Cody managed to make peace, and Felicia said that was true. No matter what they said, they loved each other. Emma said she thought Dante and Gio wanted a relationship, but neither one was willing to admit it, and Felicia said, Mac kept Cody at a distance because he was hurt. Cody knew he’d screwed up and said a relationship with his father was unnecessary. Emma said, Gio told her that Dante didn’t respect him, but that was okay because he didn’t want anything to do with Dante. How did Mac and Cody bridge the gap? Felicia said, James did all the work.

Lulu and Rocco found Sonny in Turner’s office, and he said Ric and Turner were in with the judge. It may not go their way, but Rocco needed to be respectful and polite. Don’t offer any information and don’t argue. Ric and Turner came back, and Ric said he got the terms of their plea agreement.

Dante said Lulu tended to lead with her heart, but Nathan said she wouldn’t have signed up for it if she didn’t know how to handle it. Dante said, if it didn’t go their way, it was because of him.

Charlotte said Nathan was right. She and Danny would just be a distraction. Danny said they were only in this mess because they wanted to make a difference, and she said she wanted to help Rocco before she went away. Danny asked where she was going.

Josslyn said, two things could be true. She could want more time with her family and be concerned that the man who tried to kill Carly escaped. Carly said if Valentin came to Port Charles, it would be to see Charlotte, not her. That wasn’t going to happen. Josslyn said, then what was wrong with having a party? and Carly said Friday was the PCU Holiday Concert. Josslyn and Trina always went together, and Josslyn should have fun with her friends. She and Donna could come over during the weekend and bake cookies. Her sister would love nothing more than to decorate her place for the holiday. Josslyn said, sounds great.

Jack thanked Britt for coming, but she said she had no choice. He said the WSB was investigating the research of Professor Dalton, and she’d said she was just a guest at the Five Poppies. But since then, they’d learned that Professor Dalton was funneling data to someone at the resort. She wasn’t a guest. She was working at the lab. Now that Professor Dalton was gone, she was all they had left.

Emma asked how James helped, and Felicia said Cody saved him from drowning. In that moment, Cody and Mac saw past their pride and saw each other. Cody saw Mac as a loving father, and Mac realized, despite Cody’s screw ups, he was always trying to do better. Emma said both Gio and Dante had legitimate reasons to be angry, but neither was willing to meet the other halfway. They needed something to unite them. Felicia said, a common cause, something they could put aside their differences for.

Brook asked how the omelet was, and Ned said, fine, but it would be better with cheese. First the BLT, now the cheddar. He didn’t know if he’d live longer, but it would sure feel like it. Brook suggested he take his nap, and Tracy said he had to follow the rules. She’d make sure he did naptime. She and Ned left.

Dante told Nathan that he wanted to be the dad he never had, but Rocco brought up how Dante wasn’t around for a bit when he was younger. He’d thought it was best for Rocco and Lulu if he was far away from them and that was wrong. He didn’t know how much if affected his son until Rocco let him know. Nathan said he could see how much Dante loved Rocco, but Dante said that didn’t change the fact he wasn’t there when Rocco needed him most. Now Rocco was pushing him away.

Turner said the judge was willing to accept one of two options. The first was Rocco being incarcerated for 30 days. Ric said, or a suspended sentence in exchange for 500 hours of community service. The judge left it in the acting ADA’s hands. Lulu asked what Turner decided, and Turner said, that depended on Rocco.

Charlotte said Danny had to promise not to say a word, and Danny promised. She said she might be leaving Port Charles wither her dad. Danny said her dad was a fugitive, and she said she got a signal from him. He told her to wait. Her mom tried to make her promise not to leave, but she couldn’t lie about that. He asked if she was sure she wanted to leave, and she said she didn’t know what she wanted.

Valentin said he saw Josslyn leave. He thought she’d stay longer. Carly said that was the plan, but she didn’t want to risk Josslyn finding him and she knew it hurt Josslyn to lie to her. Valentin asked, where’s Donna? and she said, at school. Was her daughter at risk? If she was, he needed to tell her. He owed her that. He said the only one that was at risk besides him was Jack, and she said prove it by telling her how to get Josslyn out of the WSB and Jack out of their lives for good.

Jack asked if Sidwell’s associates were leaning on Britt, but Britt said she didn’t know those people. He said, save the stonewalling. He knew Sidwell’s work was continuing in Port Charles. She had access to Dalton’s lab and there was surveillance footage everywhere, even the college campus. They wanted the data, research and development. If she didn’t give it to him, he’d tell Sidwell that she was working for them the entire time.

Sidwell said they’d reached an agreement, and anyone interfering with it would receive negative ramifications. And he wasn’t talking about the political arena. Laura said she agreed with the understanding that they wouldn’t deal face to face, but he said it was a special occasion, and it wasn’t like she had a choice. Doc said she did. She could call his bluff.

Sidwell said Laura would have a lot to answer for if she came forward, and Doc said she’d lose her political career and possibly her freedom, but there was no underestimating the goodwill she garnered from the people of Port Charles, and there were lines she didn’t cross. If she was forced to turn herself in, she’d have his full support. Sidwell said he appreciated Doc’s candor, so he’d respond in kind. He needed Sonny and needed Doc’s wonderful wife, but he didn’t need Doc. It was lovely chatting with them, and he looked forward to Laura’s press conference. He left, and Laura told Doc that she loved him so much right now. Don’t ever do that again.

Rocco told Turner that he thought Professor Dalton was hurting animals, but he was wrong. Even if he hadn’t been wrong, he had no right to trespass. He never meant to cause trouble. He didn’t realize how his actions could impact others, but he should have. He was truly sorry and accepted the consequences, whatever they may be. Turner thanked him for his impressive statement. The law would be satisfied with 500 hours community service.

Tracy said despite his complaining, Ned quickly fell asleep, and Brook said, he needed rest. Tracy thanked them for taking good care of Ned. Ned owed everything to Gio. Gio said he was just in the right place at the right time, but she said it was more than that. It made her happy to see Gio and Brook getting along so well. Gio said they may have worked out a few things, when Emma came in. She said it was good to see Tracy, but she was hoping to talk to Gio about Rocco. Gio asked if something was wrong, and Emma said if he wanted to make it better for Rocco, find a way to make up with Dante.

Nathan suggested the way Dante was handling it wasn’t working and he should go back to basics. He loved Rocco and wanted things to be okay. All he needed to do was make it happen. Dante asked what he needed to do.

Danny said being on the run was so tough. His mom told him stories. Charlotte said it was hard, but could also be exciting and fun. She’d miss Port Charles. Her father had been the only person she could count on, but now she had her mom, school, him, and Rocco. She’d miss them if she had to leave.

Britt said if Jack outed her, he’d let the bad guys know the WSB was watching. He needed her and she didn’t appreciate threats. If she risked her life smuggling data from Sidwell to the WSB, it would cost them. She wanted her medical license back. Jack said he had no pull with the AMA, and she said, then get some. That was the only way she was cooperating. She left.

Valentin told Carly that he didn’t think they could get Josslyn out of the WSB… yet. But he thought they could get Jack to stop exploiting her. They were investigating Sidwell’s development of dangerous and illegal technology, and when Jack wanted something, he stopped at nothing to get it. They needed to make sure that Faison’s final project was exposed and Jack was held responsible. He’d be prosecuted for his various transgressions and go to prison for a very, very long time. Carly asked how they could be sure he went down for something he had nothing to do with, and Valentin said he didn’t think they had to do anything. Jack would do what he always did – find himself in the middle. And when he did, they would be ready.

Tuesday:

Rocco came home, and Lulu told Dante and Charlotte that he got 500 hours of community service. Dante said that was literally the best case scenario, and tried to hug Rocco, but Rocco shrugged him off. He said that until Dante could hug his brother too, he wasn’t interested.

Nina thanked Jack for seeing her, and he said a meeting with her was next on his list. She was going to help him find Valentin.

Tracy asked Brook where the things were that she sent to Lulu’s during Ronnie’s temporary occupation, and Brook said there had been a little hiccup – Drew.

Michael met Josslyn at the MetroCourt Gardens, and she said she wouldn’t stop worrying about their mom until Valentin was found. Michael said, in the meantime, she could hover over him. Everything was riding on Willow’s trial tomorrow. Josslyn said, speak of the devil, when Drew and Willow walked in.

Tracy asked how it happened, and Brook said they had movers booked to return the items, when Drew intercepted them. Tracy asked if she was saying that the family heirlooms were at Drew’s house absorbing evil. Why didn’t someone get them back? Brook said, Ned had a heart attack, and getting back her tchotchkes was low on the list. Tracy said they weren’t tchotchkes. They were family mementos and she wanted them back now.

Josslyn suggested finding the hostess, but Michael said he didn’t want to cause a scene. That’s what Dew wanted. If they wanted to parade themselves around and be stared at, let them.

Willow wondered if this was a good idea, but Drew said he wanted to show the world that he loved his wife and supported her. She had nothing to be ashamed of. She said she felt uncomfortable, but he told her to show she wasn’t intimidated. It took their power away and they could enjoy themselves in the process.

Lulu said Rocco wasn’t being fair, but Rocco said he didn’t care. Lulu said, now that the ordeal was finally over, they should be celebrating, and Rocco said he’d celebrate in his room. He went upstairs, and Dante said he didn’t want to be the reason Rocco was in his room. He was going to the station.

Nina asked how Jack expected her to help find Valentin, and Jack said she’d been married to him and they remained close. She was one of the few he appeared to trust. Taking Valentin back into custody was the only way to insure no one was hurt or killed. Nina said she wasn’t doing Jack a favor until he made good on the one he already owed her.

Drew’s phone rang, and he stepped away. Tracy said she believed he had items that belonged to her, but he said he had just as much right to them, and possession was nine-tenths of the law. The items were staying with him. He hung up, and Tracy told Brook what Drew said. He didn’t know who he was dealing with, but he was about to find out. Brook suggested they call one of the lawyers in the morning, but Tracy said she wanted her family’s property back now and knew exactly how she was going to get it.

Lulu asked how Charlotte was holding up, but Charlotte said Lulu didn’t need to worry about her. She didn’t need the extra attention. There were already too many people watching her every move. She was starting to feel like a prisoner. Lulu said they were concerned her father would show up, but Charlotte said he wasn’t stupid and would never approach her that way. Lulu asked if she’d been in contact with him.

Nina said when Jack asked her to help facilitate a meeting between Charlotte and Valentin, she did. In exchange, he’d promised her a favor and she was still waiting. He said the game had changed. Valentin was on the run. He wasn’t saying he wouldn’t help, just that he didn’t have to. What did she want?

Willow said it was hard to sit there with Michael and Josslyn glaring at them. Michael spent every day with her kids and who knew what he was telling them. She wasn’t even allowed to see them. Drew said they were just trying to upset her and throw her off her game with the trial coming up, and she said it was working. He suggested instead of taking it, they address the situation, and let her over to Michael’s table. He told Michael and Josslyn that they just wanted to say hello. They understood tensions were running high with the trial coming up, but the restaurant was big enough for all of them and shouldn’t be a problem. Michael said he had no objection to them being there, but he did object to Willow showing up at his home for a clandestine visit with the kids that she knew she wasn’t supposed to have.

Martin said he didn’t appreciate being summoned, and Tracy wondered if he’d appreciate going to prison. Her snake of a nephew bribed the moving company and stole items that belonged to her. She wanted them back. He said he didn’t know about it, but Brook said Drew was his client. He said he didn’t follow Drew around, and Tracy said she believed it behooved him to get every single item back immediately. He said he didn’t have the power to force Drew to do anything, but Tracy said he’d better or he’d find himself charged with a felony for trying to steal her beautiful home.

An officer told Dante that his son was here to see him, and Gio walked in.

Dante said it was a surprise, and Gio said the situation between them was making things harder for Rocco. Dante said everything Rocco was going through could be traced back to the both of them, and Gio said they’d both made mistakes and were both sorry. At least he was. Dante said he was too, and Gio said he didn’t know where they went from there. He was open to compromise. He wanted to have a relationship with his brother and knew Rocco wanted that too. Dante agreed and said whether he liked it or not, it wasn’t his place to try and stop it from happening. Gio asked, what’s the catch? but Dante said there was none. Other than the fact he wanted Gio to acknowledge his interaction with Rocco had contributed to Rocco’s problems. He wanted to work with Gio going forward to make sure it didn’t continue to happen.

Charlotte said she hadn’t seen her father since Steinmauer and had no contact with him since then. Lulu said her father had escaped WSB custody, and Charlotte asked, what was the alternative? Spending his life in a supermax prison, alone and far away from everyone he loved? Lulu said actions had consequences. Valentin knew that and chose to commit the crimes. Charlotte said the standards were different for everybody and it sucked, but Lulu said it wasn’t up to them to decide punishment. Live her life. She wasn’t responsible for her father’s choices and didn’t have to face the repercussions. Charlote asked if that wasn’t what she was doing.

Tracy asked if Martin preferred luscious Lodi or scenic Sing-Sing, and he said he was under the impression that the issue with Monica’s estate had been put behind them. She said it was now put in front again, and Brook said they were now on good terms with Ronnie, who’d felt terrible about it. She’d love to tell a jury how he tried to swindle them. Martin told them that Ned and Chase said if he confessed to Laura and she interceded, they wouldn’t press charges, but Tracy said, any mercy Chase and Ned showed him was before his client stole family heirlooms. Get them back or he’d be handing out toilet bowl hooch for Christmas.

Michael said, judging from Drew’s face, he was guessing it was the first Drew was hearing about it, but Drew said, not at all. Willow told him everything. She made a harmless visit, and he didn’t see the problem. Michael said a judge might see it differently, especially when he submitted affidavits from Chase and Brook saying Willow broke the custody order. Drew said, who knew if Michael would be in position to submit anything? Things change. He and Willow left, and Josslyn said Willow stood there and let him speak for her, but Michael said he was less concerned with the words than Willow’s actions. She’d proved she’d learned nothing. She asked if he was worried about the impact on the kids if Willow went to prison, but he said he was worried he’d have to share the kids with her and Drew.

Nina said Willow’s trial was tomorrow, and Jack asked if she was guilty. Nina said Willow would never shoot anyone, much less the man she loved, and Jack wondered if a jury would see her the same way. Crimes of passion happen more often than you think. And it was no one you’d suspect. Nina said Willow deserved her freedom, but they had to remove some noise to let the jury get there. He said, by noise, she meant evidence, and she said the prosecution had circumstantial evidence that would be twisted to look incriminating. Physical evidence and video that could create a false narrative. It would help greatly if he’d do something to stop that from happening.

Dante said he and Gio couldn’t fix things overnight or with one conversation. He didn’t even know if Gio wanted to fix things, but he knew he was wrong when he said Gio didn’t care about Rocco. Him being there was another example. Gio said he almost turned back three times, and Dante said, but he didn’t. He wanted to make things better for Rocco. Gio said he did too. He knew Rocco’s stance against Dante was because of him and it was the last thing he wanted. Rocco needed his dad and he wanted a relationship with his brother.

Josslyn wondered why Willow married Drew so quickly when she knew what he’d done, and Michael said Drew set out to destroy his family and succeeded and destroyed Willow in the process. She said, given what he knew, did he think they’d be together if Drew hadn’t slimed his way in, but he said, no. He didn’t think they ever really knew each other. He wished they’d had the opportunity to figure it out for themselves. The kids wouldn’t be suffering the way they were now.

Willow told Drew that she was sorry. She knew it was stupid, but she got excited when she thought the charges were being dropped. She was hoping Chase would just let her see her kids. Drew said, then Brook was there, and she said, she shut down the entire discussion. She knew there was a chance Brook would tell Michael, but was hoping she wouldn’t. She should have told him. He said he knew it waws torture, but when things like that happened, tell him so he knew how to protect her. Michael left and they were still there. They were going to win the battle, starting with tomorrow in court.

Jack said it was far beyond the capacity of the agency, but Nina said she didn’t believe him. She knew from Valentin what the WSB was capable of. He didn’t have to tell her how or what he was doing, but she knew he could do something. He said, say he did what she wanted. What she was asking could send him to prison. That was well beyond repaying her to run interference with Lulu. She had to make it worth his while.

Lulu said she didn’t blame Charlotte for being upset, but it was temporary, and Charlotte said it would be all over when her dad was captured and back in prison. Lulu said she wasn’t the enemy. She wasn’t saying Charlotte’s father was either, but she was always in Charlotte’s corner. She knew Charlotte was scared, but she wasn’t alone. Charlotte could always confide in her. Charlotte said she knew Lulu was doing her best, and Lulu said, but she needed something more or different or something. Tell her what she needed. Charlotte said the last time she told Lulu the truth, she hurt her when she couldn’t promise not to leave. She loved Lulu and was happy Lulu came back to them. Lulu said she was Charlotte’s mother and loved her. She wanted to help, but didn’t know how. Charlotte said Lulu didn’t know her like her father did.

Martin asked Brook to please try to get through to her grandmother. When Drew made up his mind, nobody could change it. Brook said, then he had some pretty creative problem solving ahead of him. Go. He left, and called Drew from outside. Drew asked what he wanted, and Martin said he was at the Quartermaines’ and understood Drew had absconded with Tracy’s property. Drew said that’s not how he described it, but Martin said it’s how Tracy did and she wanted it back immediately. Drew got up and stepped away from the table. He said Tracy wanted a lot of things, but he wasn’t interested in any of them, and Martin said he was advising Drew in the strongest possible terms to return everything quickly. Tracy was going make things unpleasant and public, and he couldn’t afford that with Willow on trial. Drew said he wasn’t returning a single thing. He was a Quartermaine and the heirlooms were just as much his. He had something he wanted Martin to do for him.

Dante said he didn’t want to keep Gio and Rocco apart, but there needed to be boundaries, and Gio asked what he meant. Dante said when Gio was with Rocco, for now he wanted to be there too, and Gio said it sounded like he was their babysitter, but Dante said he was trying to compromise. Right now, that’s what it looked like for him. He asked what it looked like for Gio.

Nina said she was willing to do what it took to protect her child. What did Jack want? He said, Valentin, and she said if Valentin contacted her, she’d call him immediately… if she got what she wanted. He said, no. If he was going to make a move to keep an alleged shooter of a sitting congressman out of prison, he’d need a great deal more.

Charlotte said there was so much about her life that Lulu didn’t know, and Lulu said tell her about anything and everything, no matter how small. All she wanted was to know Charlotte and make her feel like this was a place she belonged. Charlotte said she loved it there. She loved being with Lulu and Rocco, and being able to see her grandmother whenever she wanted. She loved the house and her room and having breakfast together. She knew Lulu was trying so hard… Lulu said, but it wasn’t enough. When she said home, where did Charlotte think that was. What was her home? Charlotte said her home was with her father.

Michael told Tracy, welcome home, and Tracy said thanks for not letting her know her son almost died. He said, sorry. They didn’t want to ruin her vacation. Someone watched them from an adjacent room, and she said her son was more important than her vacation. He said she was there now, and she said she would have gladly stayed if it meant avoiding testifying at Willow’s trial.

Dante said there would be holiday parties and get-togethers, and Rocco would want to see Gio. Why not get together as a family? They could go to Lulu’s and put up the tree. There would be food and drinks and Christmas spirit, and they’d all be in the same room. It was something to consider. Gio said he didn’t like the idea of his and Rocco’s visits being supervised, but he thought it was a place to start. If they kept reminding themselves they were doing this for Rocco, it could work.

Rocco texted Britt, telling her about his sentence. He said he guessed it worked out.

Charlotte told Lulu that she was sorry. She’d spent more time with her dad. They’d gone to different places. He taught her French and when she was in boarding school in Switzerland, he saw her all the time. They had memories she and Lulu didn’t have. It wasn’t Lulu’s fault, but it wasn’t her dad’s fault either. Lulu said she understood Charlotte spent more time with her father and they built a relationship. She was happy Charlotte had that and glad Charlotte told her how she felt. She was so sorry for what Charlotte was going through and hoped someday this would feel like home with her too. They hugged, and Charlotte said she didn’t want Lulu thinking she didn’t like it there. Lulu said, of course (🍷) not, and suggested Charotte get ready for bed. Charlotte went upstairs, and Lulu cried.

Jack said if Valentin contacted his daughter, he wanted to know, and Nina wondered what he was asking her to do. He said Charlotte’s first instinct was to protect her father. She wouldn’t confide in Lulu, but she’d need to confide in someone. Make sure that someone was her. Nina said she wouldn’t exploit Charlotte like that, and Jack said that was an acceptable response. He couldn’t force her to do what she didn’t want to. She could see herself out. Nina said if she did what he wanted, what did she get in return? and he said, exactly what she asked for. She left.

Josslyn went to Drew’s table and said she and Michael were talking about them. Michael thought he never really knew the real Willow. Personally, she didn’t think they should have gotten married in the first place. She wondered if Willow and Drew would have a similar regret. Drew may have destroyed Willow’s marriage, but she let him. No matter how many times she told herself that she was an innocent victim, she did this to herself every step of the way. She chose this. She had no one else to blame. She chose the consequences. Josslyn left, and Drew told Willow, don’t listen to her. She couldn’t be more wrong. They’d prove her innocence, and when she was exonerated, she’d get custody back and her children would be with her again. He promised. She said it was all she was living for.

Michael said Tracy missed the excitement. They thought the charges were going to be dropped, but new evidence came to light. Tracy asked if he was worried about sending the children’s mother to prison or worried about perjuring himself on the stand. She was going to protect him any way she could for Monica’s sake, but they both knew he was lying. She’d seen him park in front of Drew’s a moment before she found Drew lying on the floor with two bullet holes in his back.

Wednesday:

Dante checked on Rocco, and Lulu said he was in school. He’d left in such a hurry, he forgot his tablet. Dante asked if Rocco was still pissed, but Lulu said he was in a slightly better mood. She didn’t want to jinx it, but maybe things were looking up.

At the hospital, Britt looked at Rocco’s text and texted back. Elizabeth said she hoped it was work related.

Curtis went to Portia’s room, and she said there had been a change of plans.

On the phone outside the courtroom, Nina asked if Jack took care of the problem… What was the hold up? Her daughter’s life and future depended on it. Carly appeared and said, conspire much?

Kristina went to see Alexis in her office, and Alexis said her opening statement couldn’t be perfect enough. She didn’t have to tell Kristina what was at stake. Kristina said their future access to Scout… also Willow’s freedom.

Willow fretted about how she looked, but Drew said the jury would see what he did – a beautiful, kind, innocent woman.

In the nook, Michael flashed back to getting in his car in the rain when Tracy came in. She said she’d gone to the crypt to talk to Michael’s grandmother. She figured his grandmother would be the most concerned about him, and she reassured Monica that she was going to do everything she could to protect him in court. Michael said, assuming he needed protection, and she said, didn’t he?

Lulu said Dante needed to be patient. She thought if they gave Rocco space, he’d come around. Dante told her about Gio wanting a truce for Rocco’s sake and said he’d invited Gio to do tree stuff. Lulu said, on one condition. Dante picked out the tree, figured out how to get it there, wrangled it into the stand, and put on the lights. She was all for this. Rocco would love to have time with Gio, and after the break-in debacle, he deserved a nice, quiet Christmas.

Britt said the text was work related, but when Elizabeth asked to see it, Britt cited doctor/patient confidentiality. Elizabeth said Britt wasn’t a doctor and they had a policy about not using cellphones while on duty. Britt said, like Elizabeth was never on the phone, but Elizabeth said she had kids. Britt said it was okay to discriminate. Good to know. Lucas came by with his letter of recommendation, and Britt said she was just about to apologize to Elizabeth for being on the phone. Elizabeth left, Britt thanked Lucas for going to bat for her, and she read the letter.

Curtis said Portia had agreed to the plan, and Portia said Trina was in the room. She’d had time to think and wasn’t sure it was the best idea. He said things had been strained, but they could set that aside to make sure she and the baby were healthy. She said she thought it would be less stressful if she stayed there one more night, then went back to the MetroCourt, and he said the staff couldn’t take care of her like he could. She said if she needed help, she’d give him a call, but she thought was for the best for her, the baby, and him. She’d appreciate it if he’d keep her updated on Willow’s trail. It was going to drive her insane wondering if either of them would be thrown under the bus.

Nina told Carly that she wasn’t conspiring, but Carly said it sounded like she was making plans for Willow to go on the run. Nina said she was asking a friend to give some positive press to Willow, and Carly said having a plane ready to go wasn’t a bad idea, but Nina said Willow was innocent. Carly said the evidence suggested otherwise. If Willow pled guilty and threw herself on the mercy of the court… Nina said then Carly wouldn’t have to worry about the real truth coming out, that Michael shot Drew… or maybe she did. Carly said everyone knew Willow was guilty. Don’t blame her. If Willow claimed extenuating circumstances, she might get a reduced sentence. Nina said Willow would be exonerated and reunited with her children. Carly said that would never happen, but Nina said the prosecution’s evidence wasn’t as solid as they thought.

Alexis said she couldn’t take the thought of Scout being cut out of their lives, and Kristina said if Willow wasn’t exonerated, Drew would force the restraining order. Alexis said, Scout would suffer the most, when Drew arrived with Willow. Kristina told Willow, good luck, and left. Alexis said they weren’t quite ready, and Drew said she should have been prepared. Alexis said she was, but Willow wasn’t.

Michael said he was sorry that Tracy saw him at Drew’s and felt she had to protect him. He swore he didn’t shoot Drew. Tracy said she could usually tell when someone was lying, but he was like his father. There was a steeliness about him that was hard to read, especially when he was hiding something. Michael said he wasn’t. Why would he lie? Tracy said the stakes were so high. This was about his children. If he went to prison, Willow would get custody, and she was married to Drew… Michael said it wasn’t an option, and Tracy said, exactly. She’d do anything she had to in order to protect the family, including lying through her teeth. He said, luckily, he was willing to do the same.

Lucas asked what Britt thought. He crushed it. She said he crushed her. She had some notes, but it was a solid first draft. Lucas said he’d already sent it to the medical board, and she said he’d sent a hatchet job. He said he spoke about her in glowing terms, but she said he made her sound like a robot. There was nothing about her warm bedside manner or how her work elevated those around. Lucas said he wasn’t going to lie. She was an excellent doctor, but a notoriously less excellent human, and he didn’t say the horrible human stuff. He should have known it was stupid to do anything nice for her. She was welcome. He left and she said she wouldn’t need him as long as Chief Brennan came through. She told Elizabeth that she was taking a break and left.

Portia told the baby that it would be okay if they got through the trial unscathed, when Brad said, knock-knock. He walked in and said he heard congratulations were in order.

Britt texted Rocco, thanking him for his text to her.

Lulu told Dante that they’d get Charlotte focused on something other than the Valentin nightmare. She asked if there had been any sign of him, but Dante said, nothing. She said she was nervous sending Charlotte to school, but couldn’t keep her home forever, and he said there were squad cars on campus. Charlotte was safe. He had to get going to the courthouse. With Anna away, Alexis was going to grill him about the PCPD investigation. Was she covering the proceedings? Try not to make him sound like a complete idiot. She said it was her job to report the facts, and he left. Lulu heard Rocco’s tablet chime and saw the text from Britt asking Rocco to meet up some time.

Trina met Kai at the courthouse and said since they were the only ones at Drew’s that night, they might catch something about the shooter that the others wouldn’t. Kai said he was there for Drew’s moral support, but her being there would be harder to explain, and she suggested she be the world’s clingiest girlfriend. He said she’d have to sell that because everyone knew how independent she was. He was glad she showed up and that they were working as a team. She said her too, and they kissed.

Tracy said she thought she could muster enough credibility to convince the jury that she didn’t see anything suspicious, and Michael said he appreciated her having his back. It wasn’t her job. She said when she inherited the house from Monica, she inherited the role as head of the family. It was her job to keep the Quartermaines together. The jury was still out whether or not she was up to the task, but she owed it to Monica to try. Michael said, for what it was worth (🍷), he thought his grandmother chose a worthy successor. He had no doubt the family was in good hands. She thanked him.

Willow said Alexis told her not to testify, and Alexis said she shouldn’t, but the jury would be watching her. They’d have eyes on her every expression. How she conducted herself was vital. The ADA would drag her whole life out in the open. She’ll say horrible things, some true, some false. Willow will be hurt and embarrassed, but she couldn’t express it. Willow asked if she should show no emotion, but Alexis said, no. She could be sad about her children, but don’t overdo it. If she lost control, they were done. If she seemed unstable, they’d believe she could shoot Drew. She had faith in Willow. Drew told her not to lose sight of the goal. She needed to be free to get her kids back. Alexis said, her relationship with her kids was what it was all about, and Willow said she’d do whatever it took to be with her children again.

Elizabeth said it was generous of Lucas, even if it wasn’t appreciated, and he said he was wondering if he made a mistake, but she said she didn’t think so. Britt was an excellent doctor, and she supported Britt’s efforts to get her license back. He said Elizabeth didn’t want to be Britt’s supervisor, and she said that was a bonus. What convinced him? He said he saw how Britt was with Portia, making sure she got he medical care she needed, and Elizabeth said, thank God Portia and the baby were okay. She was going to say hi on her break. She hoped Portia was able to relax and avoid stress.

Portia asked what the hell Brad was doing there, and Brad said, in Port Charles or in her hospital room? He missed her and his fellow co-workers, so he took a break to pop in and visit, and she said he ran through the money. He said finance shaming wasn’t cool. He was hoping they’d keep it civil. Portia said he blackmailed her and sold her out to Drew for a huge payday. Now he was back in seven months. He said, six. He was sorry. Couldn’t they start fresh? She said they couldn’t. He had nothing on her anymore, so feel free to leave. He said there was no physical evidence, but he still had quite the tale to share with Dr. Robinson and the hospital board. Isaiah interrupted and said Portia was on bed rest and Brad needed to leave. Go… now. Brad said he’d be back, and Isaiah said, not on his watch. Brad left, and Isaiah asked if that was Brad Cooper. He recognized him from her description. He gave off weasel vibes. Portia said Brad was a weasel. Isaiah needed to be careful. Brad had an incredible talent for sniffing out secrets and if he found out they were involved, it would be disastrous for both of them.

Brad ran into Lucas coming out of the elevator.

Lulu approached Britt, who asked if she could help her. Lulu said, stay the hell away from her son.

Turner thanked Dante for pulling the footage. They were able to put together her drive from the hospital to Drew’s house. Dante said it was the second alibi she lied about, and Turner said it was a big mistake on Willow’s part, and her job got a whole lot easier. Alexis came in, and Carly asked Michael how he was holding up. He said he was confident justice would be served, and Turner asked if Carly had seen Willow. Carly said she hadn’t, but she wouldn’t be surprised if Willow made a run for it.

In the hallway, Nina asked if she and Willow could talk in private. There was something she should know. Alexis came out and said, let’s go. Court was almost in session. They went in and Willow saw Michael.

Lucas said he didn’t realize Brad was back in town, and Brad said he got in today. He would have given Lucas a heads up, but he didn’t know if Lucas wanted to hear from him. Lucas said it would have been fine. What brought him back? Brad said traveling was exhausting and he needed a break. How was Lucas? Lucas said, good. Work was keeping him busy. Brad said, too busy for a personal life? but Lucas said he managed to juggle both. Brad asked if he was seeing someone. Lucas was starting to date a guy when he left. Lucas said, Marco. They were still a thing. More than that. They’d moved in together.

Isaiah said as far as anyone was concerned, Portia was his boss and they were friends, so of course (🍷), he stuck up for her. She said she was paranoid about Brad and he stressed her out, and Isaiah suggested changing the subject. When was Curtis coming to take her home? She said she told Curtis that she’d changed her mind and asked Dr. Navarro if she could stay there another night. Then she was going back to her room at the MetroCourt. He said, or they could stick to the original plan, and she could stay with him at the cabin.

Curtis said he didn’t know Trina was coming, and she said she was there to keep Kai company. Did he get her mom settled in at home? He said it wasn’t happening. There had been a change in plans.

Drew said he’d be behind Willow. If she needed a pick-me-up, turn around. He loved her. The bailiff said, all rise. Court is in session, the honorable Judge Sullivan presiding.

Britt said she was in the middle of a shift, and Lulu said Britt had been texting her son behind her back. She read, let’s meet up soon, and Britt said, the horror. Lulu said it wasn’t funny, and Britt said Lulu’s hysteria over a nothing text was. Lulu said Britt wasn’t supposed to contact Rocco, but Britt said Rocco reached out to her. Was she supposed to ignore him? Lulu said, yes, and Britt said, ridiculous. Lulu said he was a child. Britt was the adult. Britt said Rocco was nearly grown. Keep it up and Lulu would push him away. Did she threaten Lulu that much? Lulu said Britt was selfish and a liar. Britt destroyed everything she touched, and she wasn’t going to let Rocco be next. She was blocking Britt’s number and trust her, it was just the beginning.

The judge said the court called The People versus Willow Tate, and asked the prosecution to make their opening statement.

Brad said, so Lucas was living in domestic bliss. Congrats. Where should he send the housewarming gift? Lucas said he didn’t need to send a gift, but they were at Windymere with Marco’s dad. Brad asked if it didn’t cramp Lucas’s style, and Lucas said, Marco’s father or the fortress? They made it work. His phone chimed and he said he was sorry. A patient needed him. It was good seeing Brad. Brad said him too, and Lucas left.

Isaiah said when he first pitched the idea, Portia seemed excited to stay at the cabin, and Portia said she was. It sounded ideal, but if Trina and Curtis found out, it would be tricky to explain.

Isaiah said they didn’t have to know he was staying there too. She could say he offered the place, and she accepted because it was peaceful and quiet. She said, in reality, he’d be there with her, and he said, if that was okay. He’d like to take care of her and the baby. After all, there was a chance it was his. He kissed her hand, and she said it was really tempting. He told her, then say yes.

Britt sent Rocco a text saying she was checking in to see if he got her text earlier. Let her know.

Dante asked if Lulu was okay. She seemed agitated. Lulu said she’d tell him later, and Turner said she wasn’t going to waste the jury’s time with a sales pitch. It was just the facts. The PCPD had a mountain of evidence that would make clear that Miss Tate had the motive, means, and opportunity to shoot Congressman Cain. The defense attorney could try her best to distract them from the evidence, painting Willow as nothing more than a victim. She’d throw other suspects at the wall, hoping one would stick just enough. But back to the facts, starting with motive. This man seduced Willow away from her husband and because of Congressman Cain, her family was torn apart, and she lost custody of her children. That led to her suffering two psychotic breaks, one taking place after learning Drew slept with her own mother while he was courting her. Then the night of the shooting, she found out the judge assigned to her custody hearing had been murdered and any potential reunion would be delayed. Any mother would have snapped and she did. There’s motivation. As for means, the weapon was taken from the estate where the defendant once lived. Afterward, it was found among her belongings in her temporary residence. As for opportunity, they had footage of the defendant driving from her place of work to the congressman’s house at the time of the shooting. By the time the trial was over, the facts would leave them with only one reasonable conclusion. On the night of September 2nd of this year, Willow Tate drove to Congressman Cain’s house and shot him twice in the back and left him for dead. There were soap looks all around.

Elizabeth went to Portia’s room, but Portia was gone.

Britt saw that no texts to Rocco were going through, when Brad came out of the elevator. She said, Brad Cooper, as I live and breathe, and he said he heard she was doing both of those things, but then he thought, no. It wasn’t possible that his best friend in the world would let him think she was dead for two whole years. She said she was so sorry. The last thing she wanted was to hurt anyone, but especially not him. Was there any way he’d forgive her? He said he’d consider it if she watched the Oscars with him in March, including the red-carpet coverage, and she said her fridge was stocked with Rocky Road ice cream in preparation. He said then he guessed all was forgiven. Come here, you heartless skank. They hugged.

Alexis said Turner was right about one thing. Back in September, Willow’s state and life were a mess. Her family was fractured and she was unable to see her children, not because of Drew, but because of her ex and the father of her children, Michael Corinthos. Mr. Corinthos was very angry and jealous because his wife left him for another man. And to add insult to injury, the other man was his uncle. He retaliated in a very bad way, stripping his ex of her children. It was devastating and Willow did put some of the blame at the congressman’s feet for a brief time, but before he was shot, they’d reconciled. They just got married this past Thanksgiving. Why would she shoot the man she loves? She didn’t and wouldn’t. The only reason they were there was because the PCPD and District Attorney’s office were in desperate needed of a suspect. In fact, they focused solely on Willow, rushing to judgement at the exclusion of everybody else. There were people who had an actual motive to kill Drew Cain, but they rushed to judgment. Her client was innocent and she relished the opportunity to prove it to them. Nina smiled and there were more soap looks.

Thursday:

Lulu thanked Nathan for picking up Charlotte at school, but knew he was a detective, not a bodyguard. She was sue he had better things to do with his time. Nathan said he was helping a friend, and Lulu said a friend was just what she needed.

Brad and Britt dressed up and went to dinner at Café Cherie. They ordered the Café’s finest bottle of bubbly.

Anna heard Pascal say, stop what you’re doing and face the wall, in French. Also in French, she asked, why? and he said it was time for breakfast.

Jack gave Carly a necklace as an early Christmas gift, and said he couldn’t surprise her at the MetroCourt. She hadn’t been there for a couple of days. What was keeping her at home?

Jason went to see Josslyn, and when she asked what he was doing there, he showed her his phone. It said, did you sweep for bugs?

Alexis said Willow handled herself well during the opening statements. She needed to be attentive, but not emotional during the testimonies. She’d hear things that were unfair, but try not to react. Think of why she was here and let her handle the rest.

Turner told Dante that evidence didn’t just disappear. Where was the security breach? Dante said she’d have to figure out how to prove the case without the footage, when court was back in session. Turner called her first witness – Tracy Angelica Quartermaine.

Turner said Tracy was the first to discover Drew Cain after he was shot. Walk them through her movements. Tracy said she found Drew on the floor and ran over to check on him. She found a pulse and grabbed a throw from the couch to staunch the bleeding. Then she called 911 and when the police and paramedics came, she answered their questions. Turner asked if she moved anything else, but Tracy said, no. Turner asked if she’d moved the baseball bat found on the floor, but Tracy said she only stepped over it. Turner had nothing further, and Alexis asked what compelled Tracy to visit Drew in a rainstorm. Tracy said she wasn’t there to visit, but to give him a piece of her mind.

Carly told Jack that she loved being home at this time of year, decorating and nesting with Donna and Josslyn, when she was around. She didn’t think she’d see much of him until he found Valentin. Jack said Lulu wasn’t making it easier. She’d thrown up a wall between him and Charlotte. Carly asked if he wanted her to talk to her cousin, but he said he had other options and didn’t want to involve her. Valentin would contact Charlotte, if he hadn’t already. If Lulu wanted to protect Charlotte, she’d let him speak to her. Carly said she’d be happy to mention to Lulu that Jack knew how to keep Charlotte safe. Consider it her early Christmas present to him.

Nathan said with Valentin on the loose and friction between Dante and Rocco, Lulu had pressure on all fronts, and Lulu said she was trying to maintain a sense of normalcy. Lulu knew that Charlotte felt like it was her and Valentin against the world, and Valentin had no one but her. She was trying hard not to see Valentin as the bad guy, but couldn’t shake the fear that Charlotte would go with him and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Britt and Brad clinked champagne glasses, and Brad asked what it was like working with Lucas. Britt said Brad was better off without him. Leaving Port Charles trailing money and models was so much better. Brad said models were vapid and shallow, and Britt said, not everyone was as deep as him. He told her, spill already. Where had she been?

Josslyn swept with a wand and told Jason that she did this every day. She didn’t trust anybody. She’d say he’d come over to invite her to the Quartermaines’ Christmas party, and he said no one could know he came to ask for her help.

Tracy said her dear friend had been arrested because of Drew’s abuse of his power, and Alexis asked if Tracy observed her client on the premises. Tracy flashed back to telling Michael that she saw him that night, and told Alexis, no. Alexis reserved the right to recall the witness, but had no further questions.

Nathan said Charlotte loved Lulu and said she’d been great about the Valentin situation. They’d had some good conversations recently. Lulu said he was easy to talk to and she was glad Charlotte trusted him. There was a knock at the door, and Jack said he needed to speak to Lulu in private, but Lulu asked Nathan to stick around.

Britt told Brad that after Heather Webber’s attack, she was sure she’d die, but she woke up in a five-star resort in Croatia called the Five Poppies. She realized she’d been drugged and apparently smuggled out of the country by the people who used to work for her father. Brad asked why they would do that, and she said they needed help with her father’s cold fusion research. She was allowed to live in a gorgeous resort with every amenity, but most important was that she was healthy. An experimental drug kept her Huntington’s in check temporarily. There was just one catch.

Anna heard, turn to the wall, hands on head, in French, and saw Pascal through the two-way mirror. She did what he’d asked, and he brought in a tray. He asked why she wasn’t working on her memoirs. No inspiration? Her code was very clever. Answering in French, Anna said she was trying to deduce where she was and how they managed to bring her there. She wondered why they let her keep the notebook. Pascal said they understood it must be tedious and admired how she kept herself preoccupied. Enjoy her meal. He left.

Jason told Josslyn that Britt had been in trouble since leaving the Five Poppies and couldn’t be without the medication that kept her Huntington’s from progressing. He wasn’t there to screw up her mission or take down the WSB. He needed to know why they were investigating the Five Poppies and how it involved Sidwell, Dalton, and Faison.

Turner said what Nina had told the police about the whereabouts of her daughter was a lie. She hadn’t seen Willow at all. Nina said, not until she went to the hospital, and Turner asked if Willow objected to the false alibi. Nina said, no, and Turner asked why she made it up. Did she think Willow was guilty? Alexis objected and said, leading the witness, and Turner said she’d rephrase. Why lie to the police? Nina said she’d wanted to protect her daughter from a witch hunt like what she was going through right now.

Britt said her work was definitely in violation of several international arms treaties, but Brad said it sounded like a small price to pay for her health. Anyone would have done what they asked. He would have. She said, it was all top secret. They built a lab at the resort, and she worked with raw data. She had a wrangler named Pascal, a little dictator with delusions of grandeur, but her orders came from the top – Jenz Sidwell. He asked if she meant Lucas’s boyfriend’s father, and she asked why he cared. He said it was just an observation and knowing how she felt about authority, he imagined it didn’t go well. She said, it did not. When she clocked a couple of WSB agents at the resort and didn’t report them, one thing led to another, and she ended up with a bomb strapped to her ankle. Then she got lucky and Jason came to her rescue.

Josslyn said she’d love to help Jason, but couldn’t. If she shared intel with anyone outside the Bureau, it was treason. He said she knew he wouldn’t tell anyone and he was acting privately. She said they’d know the intel came from her, but he said they’d assume it was Britt. She asked why he didn’t get it from Britt, but he said she wouldn’t tell him. Please. Britt saved her life twice and needed her medication. Josslyn knew she could trust him, but could she say the same about Jack Brennan?

Lulu said her daughter had nothing to say to Jack, and Jack said he could bring in Lulu as a person of interest because she shared a daughter with a wanted fugitive. He could question her for hours, or she could let him speak to Charlotte. She said he was going to have to take her in.

Carly took off the necklace, and Valentin said he knew it was gift from Jack. He’d watched Jack leave through his lonely attic window. She said she didn’t like anyone watching her, and he said, but she wouldn’t give him her Hulu log-in. She said, Jack mentioned Charlotte. He was upset because Lulu wouldn’t let him talk to her. Valentin asked if Jack wanted her to smooth things over, and she said she believed he wanted Charlotte to be safe. She believed Jack was capable of being kind. Valentin said Jack could be the kindest man in the universe when it paid off for him. How did they become involved?

Alexis asked if Willow requested Nina to make up an alibi, but Nina said, absolutely not. Alexis asked why Willow went along with it, and Nina said, at the time, Willow might have thought she was the one who shot Congressman Cain and was trying to protect her, and Alexis had no further questions. Turner asked for a brief recess, and Judge Sullivan granted it. They’d recess for 10 minutes. Michael told Curtis that he was there when they searched Aurora and took him out in handcuffs, and Curtis said they were looking at him as a suspect, but dropped the charges. He guessed they had a stronger case with Willow. Michael said, Willow couldn’t account for where she was at the time of the shooting. They hadn’t gotten to the gun yet. Drew told Willow that the prosecution was grasping at straws and the jury wasn’t buying it, and Nina said she did her best to take the blame. Alexis said she wasn’t sure it would help when they showed the traffic cam footage.

On the stand, Dante said the bullets matched a gun registered to Edward Quartermaine. They served a warrant for the estate, but weren’t able to find the gun in the cabinet. They did find it in the home of Elizabeth Baldwin in the room where Willow was staying. Willow had lived at the estate, which pushed her to the top of the suspect list. Turner asked if he believed she still had access to the estate, and he said, the family didn’t even know the gun was missing. Willow had knowledge of the property and snuck onto the estate several times. Turner asked how they’d put her at the scene, and he said her cellphone had pinged within a five-mile radius of Drew’s home. Turner said that wasn’t conclusive, but he said her vehicle was on traffic cam 65 near Drew’s home. Turner said she wanted to admit still photos from the traffic cam, but Alexis asked where the original footage was. Turner asked to approach and told the judge that they were unable to produce the footage, but they did have timestamped photographs from the traffic cam. Alexis said, without the original source material, the chain of evidence had been broken. There was no way to confirm their legitimacy, and she strongly objected to their admission as evidence.

Anna finished her meal, and realized something was attached underneath the tray. She cleared the tray and flipped it over, finding a package.

Lulu said she’d call her mother, the mayor, and her ex-husband, the acting Police Commissioner, and Nathan said she wasn’t going anywhere and not being questioned without an attorney present. Jack said, as long as Valentin was free, the longer he had to come for Charlotte. They’d been on the run before as fugitives. Did she want Charlotte hunted down by law enforcement? That’s what would happen if she didn’t cooperate. What kind of mother would let their child be collateral damage?

Carly said Jason sacrificed two years of his life with the FBI to protect her, and told Valentin about Jagger Cates. Valentin said, the charges were dropped because the evidence disappeared. You needed high tech to make those kinds of files go away. She asked if he was telling her that Jack made the evidence disappear, and he said, it wasn’t Santa Claus.

Brad asked if Jason was still in the picture, when the waiter put the check on the table and told them to take their time. Britt said Jason got the bomb off of her and gave her a ride back to Port Charles, and Brad said he was thankful she was home safe, but he had to ask if there was any part of her that was sad to leave the Five Poppies. She said, no matter how beautiful a prison was, it was still a prison, and he asked about her meds. She said she was terrified, but her meds arrived in Port Charles when she moved back. As relieved as she was to get them, she realized her medication came at a cost. She was still on the hook for the research. He said, she was still working for Sidwell? and she said, and that little creature Pascal. Sidwell had him moved into Windymere. Brad asked what she was going to do, and she said, whatever she was told. It was the only way to get her medication. Brad took her hand and said, whatever she had to do, keep doing it. He couldn’t put up with losing his friend again. She said her neither. He had no idea how good it was for her to have her friend back.

Jason asked if Josslyn was having second thoughts about joining the WSB, and she said, second, third, and fourth thoughts, especially since Vaughn disappeared. They’d breached protocol by being together and she’d trusted him with her life. Now that he was gone, she realized she trusted him more than Brennan and the Bureau. Brennon’s goals had to do with Sidwell and Faison’s final project. She wasn’t a person to him. Neither was Britt. They were tools he was using to reach his objective. Jason said he’d always protect her.

Carly told Valentin that she went to visit Jack a lot. She told him everything that was going on and he seemed genuinely interested. Valentin said Jack was skilled, but she said they weren’t dating then. She couldn’t believe he’d do that. Valentin said, when she was granted her freedom, it felt like a miracle. To Jack it was a minor interagency clash, but look at the dividends it had paid.

Lulu said Charlotte didn’t know where Valentin was, and Jack said Charlotte was his only child and they lived as fugitives. Her daughter knew Valentin well. Nathan said, not well enough to find him, but Jack said Valentin had a way to contact Charlotte. He’d raised Charlotte to be his accessory. Nathan asked if Jack as going to be a big man and arrest a 16-year-old girl, but Jack said he was going to save her life.

Judge Sullivan said there was no way to prove accuracy and the photos were inadmissible. Turner said she had nothing further, and Alexis asked Dante if there had been other suspects. Dante said, quite a few had motive, means, and opportunity. She said, yet her client was the main focus and the suspect on night one. Would it be fair to say the PCPD was premature and reckless… Turner objected, and Alexis said, withdrawn. She said, Dante told her the theory was that Willow Tate walked onto the Quartermaine estate and took the gun, and Dante said, yes. She asked if he didn’t live their too, and he said he did. She asked how many other people lived there, and he said, about ten in the main house. She asked if there were staff and a ground crew, and he said, yeah. She said, a lot of people lived and worked at the Quartermaine estate, and they all had access to Edward Quartermaine’s gun. Readier access than her client who didn’t live or was welcome there. He said he supposed she was right, and she said, including his brother Michael Corinthos. One could argue Michael Corinthos had means, motive, and opportunity to shoot Drew Cain. Isn’t that right?

Brad said they should get going and settle up, and Britt said, go ahead, Mr. Moneybags. Let’s see your black card. He said he had one credit card left and it was maxed out, and she said she thought he was rolling in it. He said that was before Gunter, his model boyfriend who left him high and dry after spending all his money. But it should be no problem for her, being a doctor. She said he didn’t have her medical license back. She was working as a ward clerk in the ER. He said, she wasn’t a doctor? She drove a new Mercedes. She said she lived in a studio apartment above a dumpy café. She was broke. He said he was broke, and she asked, who’s going to pay for this?

Alexis asked if the PCPD ever considered Michael Corinthos as a suspect or did Dante’s personal ties interfere with his judgement… Turner objected, and the judge sustained. Alexis said, no further questions, and the prosecution called Kristina Corinthos-Davis.

Josslyn said she knew Jason wouldn’t ask her for help if he didn’t have to. Britt must be important to him. Jason said, so was she. He’d rather die than put her in jeopardy. All he wanted to do was keep her and Britt safe. She said, if it was a question about whom she trusted, between him and Brennan, she’d choose him – always.

As the moss bowl 🎍 listened intently, Carly said Jack could have told her, but he didn’t want her to feel like she owed him anything, but Valentin said her interpretation of the events was dangerously naïve. She left out that Jack did nothing unless it benefitted Jack. The reason he hadn’t told her was that he was withholding the information until he could make the best use of it.

Nathan said Jack had no warrant and no right to be there if Lulu didn’t want him in her home, and Lulu said she didn’t. She’d like him to leave. Jack said he knew Lulu thought Nathan was protecting her, but how did she know she wasn’t playing directly into his hands? She said Nathan was an old friend, and Jack said, who showed up seven years after he was presumed dead. The PCPD gave him his badge back and everyone took his claim that he had no memory at face value. Nathan said people did that with the truth, but Jack said Lulu needed to remember who Nathan’s real father was. He might go by West, but his real last name was and always would be Faison.

Anna opened the package and found a book called The Crystalline Conspiracy, by PK Sinclair, the heroine on the cover looking just like her. She opened it and an inscription read: For my muse – C. She threw the book across the room.

🫔 Friday’s Enchilada…

Turner asks Kristina how she knows the defendant, and Kristina says, Willow is her brother’s ex-wife. Turner says, isn’t it also true that they were both members of an organization known as Dawn of Day?

At the cabin, Isaiah says, they don’t have enough checkers or chess pieces to play either game, but if they put them together and use a little imagination, they can make it work. Portia says he has impressive crisis management skills, and he says he’s got to keep her entertained. Her orders are bed rest and his are to make sure she and the baby have the best possible care. They kiss.

Brad asks Britt if $63 will help, and she says, that doesn’t even cover dessert. The bill is over two grand. She can’t believe they each thought the other was paying. Why did he order those bumps of caviar? He says, the same reason she ordered a second bottle of champers. They deserve nice things. There’s got to be someone they can call. She says, who would that be? Everyone hates them. They’ll have to figure it out on their own. He says, so what else is new?

Josslyn asks what Jason needs, and he says, everything she has on Sidwell and the WSB operative against him. She says, Brennan, Dalton, Sidwell, and the Five Poppies are all connected, and he says, to what? She says, to Faison’s final project. But Britt isn’t a victim. She’s in on it.

Carly says, there’s no way Jack held on to the recording that incriminates her for racketeering just he so could use it against her one day, and Valentin asks, why? Because she’s immune to his scheming? She says, he knows what he’s doing to her daughter, but couldn’t have known what was going to happen between them. He couldn’t have been playing her that early on. Valentin says, absolutely he could, depending on the circumstances, and she says, what circumstances? He says, when she started sleeping with him.

Lulu says, Nathan is nothing like Cesar Faison. How dare Jack imply that? Jack says, they’re father and son, and Lulu says, Cesar Faison is also the man who shot Nathan and cost him seven years of his life. Her best friend, Nathan’s wife, saw it happen. Nathan says, his pregnant wife. It’s ridiculous. Jack said, with Faison, anything is possible.

Turner asks if Kristina and Miss Tate were both in Dawn of Day, and Kristina says, yes. Turner says, explain to the court what Dawn of Day is, and Kristina says, Dawn of Day branded itself as a self-improvement community, but in actuality it was a cult led by a man named David Henry Archer, who went by Shiloh. Turner asks, how long was she a member of the organization? and Kristina says, long enough to be invited into the Trust. Turner asks, what was the Trust? and Kristina says, the inner circle. The women in the trust were expected to be loyal and protect Shiloh when necessary. Turner says, how so? and Kristina says, they underwent weapons training and were his first line of defense. Turner says, she and Willow weren’t in Dawn of Day at the same time, and Kristina says, no. Turner asks if they ever discussed their experiences, and Kristina says, yes. Willow came to her and told her what she’d been through. Willow warned her to stay away. Turner asks if Willow also told her that she was part of the trust, and Kristina says, yes. Turner asks if Willow also had training and experience with firearms, and Kristina says, yes. Turner says, no further questions, and Nina leaves the courtroom.

Carly says, Jack barely knew her when the recording went missing, and Valentin says he’s known Jack a long time and he’s never committed to one woman. It would be the first time he’s broken that rule. If he had incriminating evidence after he’d fallen for her, he’d have an excuse for secrecy because he’d have been protecting her, but by her own admission, Jack had it long before that. He bets his life that Jack still does. She says, to what end? but he says he doesn’t know. She’s the ex-wife of two very powerful men and the mother of another. She’s the closest confidant of Jason Morgan, who has been on the WSB’s radar for a very long time. So she may not be the intended target, but any one of them could be.

Jack says, with all due respect, Nathan’s memory loss is an awfully convenient cover for whatever he’d been doing for the last seven years, and Lulu says, Nathan is a good man. And she trusts him a hell of a lot more than she trusts Jack. Nathan says he’s not his father. He’s a police  detective, sworn to protect and serve. Jack says, then he should want to protect Charlotte as much as he does and not feed into her mother’s fear and help her work against him at every turn. It’s not the way to do that. Nathan says, there’s a big difference between what he does and what Jack does, and Lulu says, that’s for damn sure. Jack has tried to coerce her into helping him multiple times, and now because she won’t fall in line, he’s questioned her skills as a mother and threatened to drag her in as a person of interest. May she remind him again, this is her house. He has no jurisdiction here.

Jason asks what Faison’s final project is, and Josslyn says she’s not sure, but it involves cold fusion. Jason flashes back to being on the plane with Britt, and Britt saying she was working in research. It had to do with cold fusion. No big deal. Josslyn says her mission was to get close to Dalton so she could figure out what he was researching. When they discovered Britt was alive and well at the Five Poppies, Dalton had been feeding her data, and she was analyzing it. He says, so the lab at the Five Poppies was destroyed because the WSB discovered it, and she says she knows for a fact that when Britt came back, she worked with Dalton to continue the research here and now Dalton is missing. He says, and she thinks Britt is mixed up in that, and Josslyn says she knows Britt is.

The waiter asks if he should take the check, but Britt says they might have more dessert. He wonders if they’d be interested in some fancy dessert the name of which I don’t catch. The gold flakes are truly decadent. Brad says, no, but Britt says, yes. They’d love to try it. It sounds incredible. Tell the chef to be extra careful, especially with the gold flakes. They’re not in a r ush. The waiter says, of course (🍷), and leaves. Brad asks what she’s doing. They can’t afford this. She says, no, they can’t. Ready? One… Two… Three. She runs out the door and after a moment’s hesitation, he follows.

Alexis says, Willow sought Kristina out to talk about Dawn of Day. Why would she do that? Kristina says, Willow was asked to talk to her, and Alexis says, by whom? Kristina says, by her brother Michael. He was worried about her and thought Willow might be able to talk her out of further involvement with Dawn of Day. Alexis says, so her brother trusted his now ex-wife with something that serious, and Kristina says, yes. Alexis asks if she’d agree that Willow is a good person, looking out for her best interests, and Kristina says, at the time, yes. Alexis asks if they ever talked about weapons or weapons training, and Kristina says, no. Alexis asks if she’s ever seen the defendant with a weapon in her hand, and Kristina says, no. Alexis thanks her and says, no further questions.

Portia says she hasn’t played chess in forever. She can’t even remember how each piece moves. Isaiah says, it’s easier when you have the actual pieces. Don’t worry. He’ll remind her. She asks if there’s anything he’s not good at, and he says his father taught him. It was kind of their thing. She asks if he’s okay, and he says, yeah. Just some old memories coming up. With the baby possibly being his, he’s been thinking about his dad. She asked before if he’d given any thought to being a father and he didn’t have an answer then. He does now.

Jack says she’s making a mistake, but Lulu says, no one tells her what to do when it comes to her family. He needs to leave… now. He says he only ever worked with her to stop Faison. Now he was looking for Valentin because he used to work for Faison. The longer Valentin is free, the worse it is for everybody, Charlotte included. Don’t say he didn’t warn her. He leaves and sees Nina outside. He says he hopes she’s there to honor her part of the deal.

Turner asks Brook to tell the court what she knows about the gun, and Brook says, it was kept in the study, locked away with the rest of the collection. With so many kids around, safety is paramount in their house. Turner asks when the gun went missing, but Brook says she has no idea. The family rarely goes into the study. Turner asks if she was residing at the house when Michael and Willow were married, and Brook says, yes. Turner asks if she’d ever seen Willow interact with Drew Cain during that time, and Alexis objects. Relevance. Turner says, it goes to motive, and Judge Sullivan says, overruled. Turner says, describe the nature of the relationship between Drew Cain and Miss Tate as she saw it at that time, and Brook says, they had a connection. Drew had saved Willow’s life. Turner says, so she was close to him? and Brook says, yes. Turner says, how close? but Brook says she’s not sure how to answer that. Turner says, closer than a married woman ought to be with a man that isn’t her husband? and Alexis objects. Turner says, withdrawn. Did she ever observe Drew Cain pursuing Willow? Brook says she saw them in intimate moments, and Turner says, intimate as in sexual? Brook says, yes. Unfortunately, the entire family saw graphic footage of Drew and Willow having sex in the nursery playroom. Turner says, while she was married to Michael Corinthos? and Brook says, yes. Turner says, so you could say Drew Cain had extraordinary sway over the defendant, or at least enough sway to persuade her to have sex in the nursery where her children play…  Alexis objects, and the judge says, sustained. Turner says she has no further questions for Brook, and Alexis says she has no questions at this time, but reserves the right to call the witness later, and Judge Sullivan tells Brook that she may step down.

Turner asks Elizabeth to tell the court about the day the gun was discovered in her home, and Elizabeth says, the police arrived with a warrant and searched the room where Willow was staying. Turner says, where they found the gun. Why was Willow staying with her? Elizabeth says she and Drew had a failed wedding in July. Willow was extremely upset and had no place to go, so she invited Willow to stay with her. Turner asks why the wedding failed, and Elizabeth says, right before the wedding, Willow learned Drew was having an affair with her mother. Turner says, there’s quite the motive right there, and Alexis objects. Turner says, withdrawn, and there are soap looks all around.

Britt and Brad laugh in her room, and Britt says he’s the only person in the world she could dine and dash with. Brad says he feels bad for the waiter, and Britt says, once she’s back on her feet, she’ll pay him back, but until then no Café Cherie for either of them. Brad says he’s really missed her, and she says she’s missed him too. It feels so good to laugh. It’s the first nice reunion she’s had since she’s been back. He says, same, and she says she left him messages on every app in existence. Why didn’t he answer any of them? He says, after Gunter, who spent all his money, he couldn’t pay for his phone bill. When he heard she was back, he cried, and then he begged, borrowed, and stole to get back here. Speaking of no money, if a ward clerk’s salary wasn’t cutting it, how was she paying for this place?

Jason asks how the WSB is getting evidence against Sidwell, and Josslyn says she was ordered to become close to Sidwell through Lucas, whose dating Sidwell’s son Marco and now living at Windymere with Sidwell and Marco full time. She didn’t sleep at night because Lucas has become a WSB asset and has no idea. Jason says, yeah. That would kill Carly if something happen to her brother. Josslyn says, especially now that they had a huge falling out. Carly didn’t want him to live at Windymere and she wanted to support that, but couldn’t because she was ordered to be supportive of Lucas and Marco’s relationship, even though now they live on Spoon Island… What? Jason says, nothing, but Josslyn says, no. She said Spoon Island and he had a reaction. She saw it. What was he not telling her?

Carly tells Valentin that when she was in trouble, Jack was the perfect gentleman. He was her friend. He saved Anna, Jason, and Lucky, and helped bring Charlotte home. He gave her an alibi when Drew was shot. He got Michael into cutting edge treatment when he was burned in that firebomb, and he stood there right next to her. Valentin says, so what she’s telling him is that the good deeds Jack has done for her son outweigh what he’s done to her daughter.

Nathan wonders if Charlotte heard Brennan, and Lulu says, she’s a teenager. She was probably listening at the top of the steps the entire time. The last thing she needed was to overhear Brennan’s threats.

Nina says she’s well aware of their agreement and appreciates what Jack has done, and Jack says, good. She knows where to find him. He leaves and Nina goes to the door and knocks. Lulu invites her in, and Nina says she didn’t expect to see Nathan here. They hug, and Lulu says she guesses Nina is here to see Charlotte. Nina says they’ve been chatting a bit and she knows Charlotte is feeling cooped up. WSB protection can really cramp a girl’s style. So she was hoping to take Charlotte out for a bite, if that worked for Lulu. Charlotte comes down, and Nina says, there she is. She looks great. They hug, and Charlotte says, Nina is right. She’s going crazy stuck in the house. Lulu says, it’s not safe to be out, but Nathan says he can arrange for a PCPD officer to accompany them in tandem with Brennan’s WSB detail. Charlotte says, please. She really, really needs this.

Turner asks, what happened after the wedding was called off? and Elizabeth says, Willow ran out of the church and she and her friend went looking for her. Tuner asks if they found her, and Elizabeth says they did. At her former mother-in-law’s house. She just wanted to see her kids, but she wasn’t allowed to. Turner asks how she’d describe Miss Tate’s state of mind, and Elizabeth says, distraught. Turner asks if Willow said anything about her relationship with Congressman Cain, and Elizabeth says, that it was over. Turner says, and was it? and Elizabeth says, they’ve since reconciled and gotten married. Turner says, oh. Did she ever see Willow arguing with him after that? Elizabeth says, in July, and Turner says, when? Before they reconciled? Elizabeth says, yes, and Turner asks how things were between them in the days leading up to the shooting. Elizabeth says, if she remembers correctly, she doesn’t think they were on speaking terms the day of the shooting, and Turner asks what Miss Tate told her about the congressman and her children. Elizabeth says, that if she was still with Drew, Michael wouldn’t let her see her kids, and Turner asks if it’s possible that Miss Tate saw Congressman Cain as the one thing standing between her and her children, and the only solution was to remove him permanently. Alexis objects, and the judge says, sustained. He tells Turner to be careful, and she says, yes, your honor. No further questions. Alexis asks if Elizabeth had ever seen Willow act in anger, malice, or hostility, and Elizabeth says, no. Alexis says, in Elizabeth’s experience, what kind of person is Willow? and Elizabeth says, she’s an excellent nurse. She’s a wonderful friend and a great mom. Alexis thanks her and says, no further questions. Judge Sullivan says he’d like to call a recess at this time, and leaves the bench. Willow says she doesn’t think it’s going very well, but Drew says, the jury will see through Turner’s game. Don’t worry. She says she hopes he’s right. She’s going to splash some water on her face. She’ll be right back. She leaves and Drew tells Alexis that she’s blowing this. Keep this up and he swears she’ll never see Scout again.

In the hallway, Chase asks Dante what happened with the traffic footage going missing, and Dante says he doesn’t know. He’s got to retrack it. Footage just doesn’t disappear. Chase asks if he thinks it’s a glitch, but Dante says, no. He thinks someone got to it. Chase says he hopes Dante isn’t implying it was him. He’d never tamper with evidence. Dante says, good to hear. (The way Chase is acting, it would make me think it was him if I didn’t know it was Jack.)

Isaiah tells Portia that he’s done a lot of reflecting. On his work with kids in Africa, his childhood, and the influences his father had on him. He wants her to know, if the baby is his, he’ll be the best father he can be. He’ll be the father the baby deserves. Portia says she knows that and thanks him. As soon as she can, she’ll get the paternity test. She’s not making the same mistake she made with Curtis and Trina. This time, she wants them to know the truth, no matter what it may be.

Britt tells Brad that she managed to pull some things together like she did with her car. Her quarters here at Carly’s flop house leave a lot to be desired, but she didn’t have a lot of choices. He says he’s surprised this place was a choice. How did she convince Carly to take her on as a tenant? Britt says, trust her, it took a village. She’s not anybody’s favorite person right now. Well, with one possible exception. He asks, who? and she says, Rocco. He says, as in Ben? and she says, yes. She’s glad somebody remembers his real name. They’ve been spending time together. It’s so amazing. She thinks they could get close if Lulu stayed out of the way.

Lulu says, okay. Charlotte can go with Nina if she promises to cooperate with the WSB detail and the PCPD office Nathan calls in. Nina says, of course (🍷). She’s sure they’ll still have time for some girl talk. Charlotte promises to do whatever the unnecessary security detail tells her to do, and Lulu says she’ll take it. Nina says they’ll be back soon, and they leave. Nathan says, Lulu doesn’t have worry. Charlotte has a lot of people looking out for her. Lulu says she’s more worried about Charlotte listening to Brennan talk about Valentin the way he just did. It will make Charlotte want to be with her father even more.

Alexis says she’s poured everything she has into this so she can see her granddaughter, and Drew says she could have fooled him. Because she basically just sat back and let turner get Elizabeth and Kristina to say that Willow did it. She says he has no idea what he’s talking about. Having the stills deemed inadmissible was a huge win and she hasn’t even presented her case yet. He says he’s not taking that chance. When he’s up there, he’s going to remember exactly who shot him – Michael. Alexis says, like hell he will. Turner is an excellent prosecutor and his sudden memory won’t hold up. Nina lied. Willow lied. They definitely won’t survive another one. He says he’ll take the risk. It’s worth it. She says he’ll make Willow look guiltier, and he says he’s lost all faith in her and everything she says. She tells him to listen to her. If he does this, it will make him a perjurer and her complicit. She already lost her license once and she’s not losing it again, especially for him. She will not support perjury, no matter what. Does he understand that? The bailiff says, court is back in session. All rise. Drew says she had her chance to fix this. Now it’s his turn.

Portia’s phone rings, and it’s Curtis. He says he called the hospital to check in and they said she was gone. She says she checked out a day early, and he asks if she’s sure that’s a good idea. She says, a hospital is the worst place for a doctor to be on bed rest. Imagine trying to rest at Aurora. He says, fair point. Is she craving anything? He can bring something to her hotel room. Portia says, no need. She has friend here and she’s taking good care of her. How’s the trial? Curtis says he was just stepping back in. There was a setback, but the prosecution seems to have a strong case. He’ll be glad when this is all over and they can just focus on the baby and the future.

Josslyn says she’s telling Jason what she knows. Telling her what he’s thinking about Spoon Island is only fair. Jason says, one of the first night’s he was back, he ran into Britt at the pier. She might have been headed there. She says, all the signs he needs are right in front of him, and he says he’s not denying Britt’s involvement, but motivation does matter. She’s desperate for this medicine. They could be forcing her to work in exchange for the meds. They just don’t have all the information yet. She says so she’ll get him more information, but he says, no, she won’t.

Britt tells Brad that she’s been thinking a lot about the first seven months with Ben, when she was raising him. Now he’s part of her life and she’s wondering what would have happened if the truth never came out. What her life would look like now. Brad says, come on. She knows she wasn’t ready to be a mom. He can tell she’s done a lot of growing up in the last few years, but back then…  She says, yeah. He’s right. And according to Lulu, she’s still not qualified to even own a house plant, let alone be anywhere near her son. You’d think Lulu would be thanking her. Her other kid’s father is a fugitive. Compared to him, she’s practically an angel.

At Café Cherie, Nina asks how Charlotte is holding up, and Charlotte says, fine. Nina says, Charlotte can tell her, and Charlotte says she feels like she’s caught between her parents. She knows they’ll never catch her dad. He always has contingency plans. Nina says she’s well aware, and Charlotte says, the only thing that’s ever slowed him down is her. Nina says, Charlotte is her father’s heart, his whole world. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for her. She knows that it must killing him that he can’t talk to her. Charlotte says, he has. He’s been in touch.

Carly asks Valentin, why would Jack save Michael and then risk Josslyn’s life by recruiting her into the WSB? She knows from Anna, that path will destroy her. Valentin says, Jack has spent his life living under fictionalized identities. Lying isn’t what he does. It’s who he is. She says it sounds like he has personal experience, and he says, yeah. Jack played the role of his friend. Then one day he needed a scapegoat and Jack left him holding the bag, but that’s on him. He has no doubt Jack has feelings for her, but this recording makes one thing very clear. Their relationship was built on a lie and that lie continues. They started their relationship because she was an asset to Jack, nothing more, and by the way, the agreement they have is finished.

Turner asks where Drew was on the night of the shooting, and he says, at home. She asks if he was with anyone, and he says, nope. She says, no calls or texts with anyone? and he says, nope. She says, his cell phone records say the same thing. If he wasn’t chatting or texting with anyone, what did he do what he got home? He says he poured himself a drink and went to his safe. He went back to the living room and that’s about when he felt the bullet hit his back. She thanks him so much for recalling a very traumatic event. Does he know who shot him?

Nathan says Lulu was great for him and Charlotte and herself. She was kind of badass. Lulu says she was looking out for them and it was infuriating hearing Brennan accuse him of faking his time away. Brennan has no idea how painful it is to come back and find out the whole world has moved on without you. But she does and hates that Maxie will too. Nathan says, don’t worry about Maxie. They’ll help her together.

Nina says, Charlotte heard from her father? and Charlotte says, yeah. She doesn’t know who’s safe and has no one to talk to. It’s really hard. She has Nina and Rocco, but… Nina says, don’t tell her anything else. There are very powerful men looking for her father, both on the good side and bad side of the law. She loves Charlotte so very much, but Charlotte can’t trust anyone with this, not even her. (Brava, Nina.)

Valentin says he can see Carly’s hesitation and doubt. She can’t trust him if she doubts, so if she’s not fully invested, he can’t work with her. She says she’s just trying to figure out when Jack started to manipulate her. She realizes that every good deed he’s done is designed to make her feel safe so he could take advantage of her and her daughter. This makes her hate him even more. Let her be very clear. She has never been more committed in taking Jack Brennan down than she is right now.

Jason says he doesn’t want Josslyn to get intel for him. It could tip off Brennan, or worse, tip off Sidwell, or get her in trouble with the WSB. Josslyn says, this is bigger than her. It involves Lucas, her mom, and Vaughn. She will not stand down out of fear. He says, she’s as stubborn as her mom, and she thanks him. He says he doesn’t want to sit and argue about it, but please be careful. It will kill him if something happens to her. She says she’s sure nothing will. Besides, it’s nice working with him and it won’t be the last time. She’ll uncover everything he needs to know.

Brad tells Britt that he’s got to say he did not see dining and ditching on his Bingo card today, and she says, her either, but she had the most fun with her bestie. They dance around, when there’s a knock at the door. Brad says, who’s that? but Britt says she doesn’t know. She opens the door to find Chase with another officer and asks what she can do for him. Chase says he thinks she knows why they’re here. She’s under arrest. He sees Brad and says, good. He’s also under arrest. Put their hands behind their backs. Brad says, me? What?

Portia says, the fact that Curtis doesn’t know the truth about the whole situation makes it difficult to relax, and Isaiah says, no matter what happens with the paternity test, everything will be fine. He knows the situation is complicated, but it has the potential to be amazing. She says she thinks so too. Thanks to him. For the first time since she found out about the baby, she believes things are going to be okay, no matter what happens.

Drew says, no. He doesn’t know who shot him, and Alexis breathes a sigh of relief. Turner says, the prosecution rests, and Alexis says she has no questions. Judge Sullivan says, the court is in recess until tomorrow when the defense will present their case, and the bailiff says, all rise. Alexis says, Drew made the right decision, and he says, for her sake, she’d better hope he did. If she doesn’t turn this around, he swears he’ll follow through with what he said. Just because he didn’t remember Michael shooting him doesn’t mean he won’t. Willow looks at him.

On Monday, Tracy tells Cody, go for it; Jordan asks how Curtis pulled that off; Nina tells Ava that she’s made far worse compromises to save Willow; and Britt says, this is all a big misunderstanding.

💉 A Dose Of Reality…

Below Deck Mediterranean

Nathan no longer cared if Max was pissed at him. He needed Max to do his job. Captain Sandy caught Max sitting down during a docking, which was not a good look. The tip was $20k or $1600 each, plus the crew got a field trip to the Alinghi Red Bull Racing Headquarters. Aesha got an extra surprise when Scott showed up there, especially since she’d been missing him lately. In her interview, she said she was starting to think about a future that wasn’t on a boat. In Max’s interview, he said he wanted to be rebellious, and tried to compare himself to his war hero grandfather. Um… no. Since V was obviously sick, the captain told her to take the next charter off and sent her off on a mini vacay on shore. While the cat was away, Eyebrows Joe played with Kizzy. I don’t know what’s wrong with that girl. He’s an a-hole too, but that’s par for the course. Women need to support other women, and women like Kizzy are why we’re not ruling the world at this point. Captain Sandy needed a temp deckhand, and Gael was being sent until V returned.

Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City

I’m getting frustrated with this one. Too many loud arguments in public places. The only two things I got out of this week’s episodes were donkey rides… Okay, it was funny when Lisa wanted to know if they bite and the guide kept saying, yes, because something was lost in the translation. Britani also swooped in and trademarked high body count hair, to which Angie took offense, since she was the one who coined the term. According to Brittani, all’s fair in love and trademarks. Alrighty then.

And just what did happen on that plane? On Watch What Happens Live, Heather told us to stay tuned for the Reunion.

Vanderpump Rules

It’s all dating and gossip, and when one of the cast said they were bored, I thought I’m bored. Most of the cast is interchangeable, there is no number one guy, and Venus is just plain taxing. LVP had to break up a fight at a photo shoot and humble bragging Chris said he’d been on a few dating shows I’ve never heard of. I’m really trying to give this time, but it’s hard to watch the immaturity of a basically forgettable group.

Southern Charm

Whoa. Craig. Salley was after Craig, spending many nights in his hot tub to no avail. Craig seems to be into Charlie, who is definitely into him, which makes Salley not a girl’s girl. To prove this point, because Molly said something Salley didn’t like, Salley announced a man had paid for Molly’s vaginal rejuvenation. I say, kudos to Molly! Molly finally called Salley a f***ing a-hole, which I’m sure had been brewing for a while. Shep was contrite about throwing Austen under the bus, and said he thought Craig had trouble with expressing remorse. He thought it made him look weak. We got some Patricia and new butler Randy, who is no Michael.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

Boz set up a speed dating event for her single friends. All the women showed up dressed in black, and in Sutton’s interview, she said it looked like they’d come back from some sort of witch convention. In Erika’s interview, she said it was where they were in their lives, under a black cloud. She also claimed Sutton had more game than she did. Erika on stage was one thing, but IRL, she was shy and couldn’t make small talk.

Random Reality Items

I’m not a faithful watcher of this show, but whenever I catch it, I enjoy it.

Tossing this one in the I-Don’t-Care file.

Kentucky Muffin starts New Year fresh. Hopefully.

This time, they’re taking it on the road.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

Troll 2. Netflix. I don’t hate a monster movie, and the monster was the deciding factor after seeing the trailer. TBH, I think I saw the first one, but it was so long ago, I’m not positive. The review made me wonder if the reviewer and I had seen the same film. I thought there was plenty of action, some enjoyably gruesome moments, a few laughs, and a surprise history/geography lesson. The trolls were pretty cool and the scenery made me want to move to Sweden.

House of Gucci. Netflix. If any dramatization of a true murder could be called a good time, this would be it. In a nutshell, the founder of Gucci (Maurizio) was shot by a man hired by his soon-to-be ex-wife Patrizia. While the story is what it is, the cast is what makes it a fun ride. Lady Gaga, Al Pacino, and Jared Leto are worth the price of admission, as Patrizia, and brothers Aldo and Paolo, respectively.

The Fanatic. Netflix. Again, maybe my taste stinks, but despite the so-so to bad reviews, I loved this film. John Travolta (at his most unrecognizable since Hairspray) stars as Moose a superfan of a movie star whose autograph he’s chasing. It’s the story of what happens when a superfan becomes a stalker. Oddly enough, even when Moose turns that corner, it’s hard not to be sympathetic to him, especially since the object of his adoration isn’t too nice to him. No doubt, Travolta’s amazing performance adds to the empathy. I also don’t know if it was me, but I would swear there were little homages to Tarantino, like the inclusion of Stuck in the Middle with You in the soundtrack and Moose wanting a milkshake at a bar.

I also watched the finale of IT: Welcome to Derry, and the only disappointing thing about it was that it was the finale. I felt like I was just getting into it and who knows how long it will be before the next season. At least the story concluded, for now, and we saw Dick Halloran go off to his next job at the Overlook. And as he said, how much trouble can a hotel be?

December 12, 2024 – A Big Surprise At the Q’s Christmas Party, Charm This, Yellow Look, More Than Extra & Wrapping

Standard

What I Watched Today

(The whole GH enchilada on Fridays; the other days, who knows?)

General Hospital

Natalia and Sonny are having dinner at Café Cherie and Natalia says, they should do a little business. She wants to show him the latest numbers from Lois’s appearance on Home & Heart. She shows him her tablet, and he says, Lois is raking in the profits. He’s sure Natalia’s guidance helped. She says, it was a team effort, and Sonny asks what else she wants to talk about, when Ric and Ava walk in.

Alexis meets Kristina at Charlie’s, and Kristina tells her that Charlie’s is closed indefinitely until she figures out what she wants to do with it. Alexis asks what she means, and Kristina says, dad decided Charlie’s needed new ownership – mine. Alexis asks if her father is giving her Charlie’s, and Kristina says, yeah. She thinks it’s the perfect time for some reinvention.

Elizabeth visits Dex and asks if he’s feeling better. He says, more than he expected. He’s watching the PCU/Llanview game preview. If he was on duty, he’d miss the whole thing. She says she appreciates him finding the silver lining.

In the nook, Sasha looks at her tablet and says, prenatal vitamins for women. Who else would they be for? (Good point.) Carly comes in and says, the hors d’oeuvres look amazing. She sees Sasha’s tablet and asks, who’s pregnant? Sasha says, no one. She was looking for multivitamins and that popped up. Carly says, algorithms are so weird.

At the gatehouse, Nina thanks Willow for inviting her to the Christmas party, and Willow says, it’s important to spend time with family during the holidays. Nina agrees and asks why Willow seems anxious.

Tracy calls Laura and leaves a message that she’s calling again. She’d like to know when she can come and see Lulu. Call her. Ned says, she still hasn’t seen Lulu? and she says, Laura is being stingy. She’s going to go over there. Ned says, the Christmas party is important. Olivia’s been working day and night. Tracy says, while Drew is playing footsie with Michael’s wife. What could possibly go wrong?

Ric wonders if they should go somewhere else, but Ava tells him, it would be rude not to say hello. They go over to Sonny and Natalia’s table, and Ava tells Sonny that her time with Avery was wonderful. They missed each other so much, but she’s sure Avery told him. Sonny says he’s not going to discuss Avery with her, and Ric asks Natalia if dinner is payback for lying stand.

Alexis asks if Kristina is reinventing Charlie’s or herself, and Kristina says, maybe both. Why does Alexis seem unhappy about it? Alexis says, Kristina hasn’t had time to process everything that’s happened, but Kristina says she thought it would take her mind off things. What’s up? Alexis says, it’s about her sister, and Kristina says she knows Alexis wants her to apologize, but she’s not going to. Alexis says, her sister and TJ are separating, and Kristina asks if Alexis thinks it’s because of her.

Felicia asks Elizabeth if Dex is cleared for visitors, and Elizabeth says, he is, but he’s watching the game. Interrupt at her own risk. Felicia says, Elizabeth is here late. She hopes Elizabeth is making time for some holiday cheer.

Willow says she’s dreading the party, and Nina asks, why? Willow says, all the Quartermaines will be there, and Nina says, including Drew. She knows it’s hard, but whatever Willow decides, she’ll support her. Willow says she decided the kids deserve a happy Christmas with both parents and that’s exactly what she’s going to give them.

Olivia tells Ned to mind his Ps and Qs. Carly knows nothing about Drew and Willow. Ned says, she knows Jason attacked Drew. She’s bound to ask questions. Olivia says, they have to keep it under wraps.

Chase says, Brook looks amazing, and Tracy tells them to get a room. Brook says, they might have to sneak out early to do some extra work, and Chase says, she’s making him hot. Tracy wonders if she needs to send them to the stable to get hosed off. Why are they eager to have a child? This place has become a daycare center.

Carly asks where Willow is, and Michael says, she’s getting the kids settled with the babysitter. She and Nina will be here soon. Carly asks why Nina is coming, and he says, Willow invited her. She’s Nina’s daughter. Like it or not, she’s family. Carly says, Nina and Drew seem cozy, when Drew walks in. Carly says, their new congressman.

Sonny asks what Ric is talking about. He’s not in the mood. Ava says, Ric had the right idea. This place is too crowded. They should go someplace else to celebrate their victory. She tells Sonny and Natalia to enjoy their evening.

Kristina asks if Alexis believes Molly and TJ’s breakup is another casualty of Ava, but Alexis says, says she thinks it’s more complex than that. Kristina says she was right to fight for custody. The baby would have gone to a broken home. Alexis says, that’s an oversimplification. Molly and TJ broke up because their baby died, and they weren’t grieving the same way. Tell her that she understands what Molly is going through.

Trina comes into the Christmas party, and Josslyn is looking at her phone. She says she’s watching the game and it’s not going well. Trina asks if PCU is losing, and Josslyn says, no, but it’s too close. Kai has been sacked three times and they’re warming up his backup. Taking him out would be the worst thing for him. Trina says, Josslyn doesn’t think it’s because he was working on their project, but Josslyn says she thinks he’s just having an off day. Trina asks, is it that bad if they lose? and Josslyn says she’ll never hear the end of it from Dex. Chase and Brook come in, and Chase asks, what’s the score? Josslyn says, PCU is up one point. She asks if they can turn it on the TV, but Tracy says, absolutely not. Ned wonders if he needs to run interference, and Olivia says she votes yes.

Michael asks Drew if Scout is settled in, and Drew says, she’s with the other kids. Michael says he’s glad they have each other. He’s sure Drew is going to make Christmas extra special for her. Drew says, after having such a tough time, she deserves to be spoiled. Willow and Nina come in, and Willow goes over to Michael. She gives him a kiss, and Drew goes to get a drink.

Brook says, Tracy won’t even notice the TV. They’ll put it on mute. Ned says he wants to watch, but only gets a blue screen when he puts the TV on. He says, the cable is out, and Tracy says, it’s a Christmas miracle.

Nina tells Olivia that it’s a lovely party, and Olivia says, it would be if Tracy would let them turn on the game. Carly interrupts, and Nina leaves. Carly asks Olivia, what’s going on? Michael and Willow are acting weird. Drew had a fight with Jason. Michael is close to Jason, and Drew and Willow are friends. Does she think they’re fighting by proxy? Olivia says she’s sure they’ll work it out. She has to check on the food.

At the PC Grill, Ava says, this is more like it. He asks what they should drink to, and Ava says, the next chapter. He says he can’t wait to see what she does with it, and they clink glasses.

Natalia says she hopes Sonny doesn’t let his brother spoil his evening, and Sonny says he wouldn’t give Ric the satisfaction. He suggests they talk about her, and she asks what he wants to know. He says, what does she want to tell him? and she says, he knows she has two kids, Allison and her son. Sonny says, he’s still in Puerto Rico? and she says, yes. She misses him, but she’s not sure if he misses her. She’s close to her parents and siblings, but currently not with her children. She’s probably told him all he needs to know. He says he’s all ears. Whatever she wants to tell.

Kristina tells Alexis, of course (🍷), she understands. She never wanted any of them to experience this much pain, but the truth is, if Adela had lived, Molly and TJ still would have broken up. Molly is her sister, and she knows these things. Alexis says, Kristina has no idea what it would have been like if Molly and TJ had become parents. That doesn’t mean Kristina doesn’t have the right to love the baby and imagine what life would be like if they were in each other’s lives. The same way Molly has a right to imagine what it would have been like if she’d become a mother. Kristina says, but Molly isn’t acting as if she’s thinking about her feelings as a mother. If she was, she’d want Ava to pay as badly as Kristina does.

Felicia says she’s rooting for PCU because she went to school there, and Dex says, then he won’t tell her that he’s rooting for Llanview. She says, nobody’s perfect, and he says he heard she gave a detailed statement to the police. She says, force of habit. She’s been around cops a lot. She’s glad he’s okay. He says, it could have been a lot worse.

Michael asks if he can hide out in the nook, and Sasha asks, what’s going on? He says he’s trying not to punch Drew’s lights out, and she asks if he’s going to be okay. He says he doesn’t know. He can’t keep going on like this. After the holidays, he’s going to tell Willow everything. She asks if she doesn’t have a say in this, and he tells her that he’s going to say it was a one-night stand. He won’t say it’s her. He’s not going to pull her into this. He has to tell Willow that he was unfaithful, and he knows she was unfaithful with Drew. She says she knows the truth is supposed to fix things, but sometimes it does the opposite. He says, they’ll be on equal footing. They both cheated. She says, what about Drew? and he says, Drew pursued Willow and took advantage of her crush. Drew drove them apart, and it’s going to cost him dearly.

Ava says, it would have gone differently if not for Ric, and Ric says, maybe, maybe not. She says she’s grateful, and he says he wouldn’t have taken her case or defended her as strongly if he didn’t think she was innocent. He knows what it’s like to be judged by past actions and he didn’t want her going down for something she didn’t do. She says, he got one over on his brother, and he says, that’s just an added bonus.

Sonny says he doesn’t know Natalia’s son, and Natalia says, he’s an incredibly talented musician. It’s all he ever wanted to do. She had huge plans for him, but it didn’t work out. He decided he didn’t want her help. Sonny is so present in his kids’ lives. They confide in him and seek him out for his advice. She admires that and she’s jealous. She wishes she had that relationship with her kids. He says, she can still fix it. Don’t give up. There’s always time to make it right.

Alexis asks if she’s got to remind Kristina that her sister can’t conceive and how hard it’s been, but Kristina says, no. Alexis says, she’s not less of a mother because she can’t carry her own child, but Kristina says she disagrees. She doesn’t understand why Molly isn’t fighting for her daughter. Alexis says, they have to heal, and Kristina says she’s trying. She’d love to not be in pain and feel normal. Alexis says, she’s refusing to see that it’s not just her. She and Molly are both in agony. Molly made her promise not to get in the middle and she’s doing everything to keep that promise. Kristina needs her sister more than she realizes. Kristina says, she’s right. She needs her sister. Unfortunately, Molly isn’t the sister she needs. She needs Sam.

Felicia says she admires that Dex sees his situation in a positive way, and he asks if he can be honest. She says, of course (🍷), and he says, the last time he was hurt, it wasn’t this noble. She says, no judgement, and he says he justified working for Sonny, but the difference between what happened then and being injured while doing a job he’s proud of means everything. Felicia says, the work he does is important. She thinks about it when Mac goes to work. Dex is a good cop. She’s glad to see he’s feeling better. He says he’s excited to get out and go home.

Drew hands Willow a drink and says, she looks nice. She says, him too. Has Scout made her Christmas list? He says, she’s having a hard time thinking of anything she wants. The one thing she wants, he can’t give her. She says, it’s hard when you can’t give someone what they want.

Chase says he wishes Drew would stay away from Willow, but Brook says she knows Willow loves Michael. He thinks there’s something secretive going on, and she says, everyone has secrets. It doesn’t make you a bad person. It makes you human.

Gio comes in, and Josslyn says, PCU just scored a touchdown. Gio was just there performing the National Anthem with the band. He could have stayed and watched. What is he doing here? He says he couldn’t miss the party, and Olivia calls him an angel and kisses his cheek.

Carly asks Willow if she can borrow Drew, and they step away. He asks, what’s up? and she says she’s happy him and Jason called a truce, and he says, this is the right place for him and Scout right now. She asks if he knows how he’s going to handle the back and forth to DC, and he says, Port Charles will be his base, and he’ll commute. Scout has had enough upheaval. He should be the one making the sacrifices. She says she’s glad he’s putting Scout first. He’s a great dad. He and Willow share a glance.

Nina finds Drew and says, they need to talk. They go into the foyer, and she asks if he doesn’t he have a phone call he can take in his downtown office. He asks what she’s talking about, and she says, steer clear of Michael and Willow. He’s not helping them or their marriage. He says, they were talking about Scout. She loves Willow. If he can arrange some time for them to be together, Scout would be comforted. Nina says, it’s disgusting. He’s using his grieving daughter as an excuse to be around Willow. He says, if that’s what she thinks he’s doing, is she going to do something about it… He didn’t think so. He goes back to talk to Willow.

Tracy sees that everyone is watching the game on Josslyn’s phone. Tracy says she needs to pull Ned away for a moment.

Natalia says, Sonny and his brother aren’t close, and Sonny says, is it that obvious? She says, you don’t do what he did to Kristina if you’re family, and he says, they didn’t grow up together, so they didn’t have that bond. She says, that makes more sense, and he says, Ric always had a chip on his shoulder. He wanted Sonny’s acceptance and when he didn’t get it, he was determined to bring Sonny down. He wishes Ric would go away. You can’t be too careful with Ric. You’ve got to watch your back because he’s not above stabbing you in it.

Ava says, they’ve come out on top. Take that, City of Port Charles. Ric says, she doesn’t strike him as someone who cares what people think, and she says she doesn’t, and she doesn’t think he does either. He says he doesn’t give a damn about what other people think, and she says, the list is quite short. Avery, of course (🍷), Trina, of course (🍷), her nephew Lucas, and Nina. What they think matters. Everybody else can kick rocks. He says, including present company? and she says she appreciates his company. He says, how much? and she says, maybe he should find out.

Alexis says she knows Kristina misses her sister. They all do. What Sam would say if she was here is that Kristina’s anger at Ava is justified, but what she was saying to her sister, what she said at the courthouse, was wrong. Molly didn’t deserve that, and the sooner Kristina realizes and apologizes, is when she’s going to heal. Sam would tell her that this reinvention isn’t going to help her skip the process of doing that. Punishing her sister is hurting herself and all of them more than she knows.

Tracy tells Ned that they should push Drew out now. There’s nobody Monica loves more that Michael and Jason, and Drew is in open combat with both of them. It would be better if they evict him. Ned tells her that she said she didn’t want to burden Monica, but she says, the situation is a thousand times worse. They have Drew under their thumb, but when he goes to DC, they don’t know how much power he’ll actually have. They need to act now. They have to. They hear cheering from the other room and Ned runs in.

Josslyn calls Dex and asks if he’s going to admit defeat, but he insists it’s Bobcat season. Still, he wishes he was there. Josslyn says she’ll bring him some popovers, and he says he’ll see her after the Bobcats win. She says, he wishes.

Michael sees Willow and Drew talking, and Ned complains about the cable being out. Michael says he can stream the game from his phone to the TV. He turns it on, and Kai is doing an interview. Tracy turns it off and says, just because she’s allowing them to watch doesn’t mean she wants to listen to those men yammer on. They’ll watch with the sound off and anybody who doesn’t like it can leave.

Kristina says she doesn’t want any of them in pain, but she can’t do what Alexis is asking. Alexis says, she made her choice. Kristina knows where to find her and Molly. Kristina says she knows Alexis doesn’t agree, but that’s okay. She doesn’t have to, but don’t give up on her. She can’t lose Alexis to Ava too. Alexis says, that will never happen. She’s Kristina’s mother and will love her always. They hug, and she says, no matter what.

Sonny tells Natalia, Ric is persistent. The longer he’s in Port Charles, the worse it will be. He’s going to want revenge, then all bets are off. She says, so he’s totally unpredictable, but Sonny says, he’s too predictable. He took Ava’s case and now he’s representing her in their custody fight. He’s a good lawyer, but he’s not going to make it easy and he’s not going to make it quick. She says she believes Sonny will still win in the end. He’s a great dad and has Avery’s best intentions at heart. He says Ava is going to fight dirty, and with the money they have, it could go on forever. They’ll be arguing until they’re both bankrupt.

Ric says, Ava is now a free woman. What’s next? She says, the first thing on her list is getting a new house, when he waiter comes with the check. She insists on paying, and the waiter takes her credit card. Ric says he can’t wait to see what’s next, and she says, stick around. He says, sounds promising, and she asks how he feels about early Christmas gifts. He says, it depends. Wrapped or unwrapped? She says, one wrapped in a great big bow, and fingers the bow on her collar. The waiter comes back and says, Ava’s credit card was declined. She tells him to run it again, but he says he ran it several times. It’s not going through. Ric’s phone dings and he tells her that her check bounced for insufficient funds. The waiter says, her card will need to be destroyed. (That’s a new one on me. I would think the card issuer would have to flag it for that.)

Felicia gives Elizabeth some paperwork and says she thinks the patient is ready to be discharged. Elizabeth says she’s glad, since his family wanted him home for the holidays. An alarm goes off, and Elizabeth looks at the computer.

Everyone is watching the game, and Michael asks who they think will win. Sasha asks if anyone wants another drink, and Tracy says she needs alcohol. There are cheers, and Chase says, one last shot for the win. Brook says, they’re tied, and Ned says he’s putting the sound on. This is the first time in PCU history. Tracy turns it off and when everyone protests, she puts it back on, but instead of the game, it’s Drew and Willow about to get busy.  😯

Tomorrow, Trina tells Kai, it’s a good place to start; Carly says, Drew finally found someone who would put him first; and Willow says, Michael took the video, didn’t he?

👒 Patricia’s Charming Easter…

I can already see why JT left the show abruptly. Everyone probably hated him by day 3. On a playdate with Craig and Shep to play virtual golf, not only did he talk smack about Austen, he tried to convince the guys that Madison’s husband was suspicious about him and Madison being together on a trip. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! That’s a lot funnier than him passing out canes to everyone. He also decided that Madison and Austen had coordinated their polka dot outfits – her dress, his pants (no, just no) – when they went to the Carolina Cup party.

Patricia was having a lavish Easter dinner, decorated with antique bunnies and lots of candy. There was also the traditional bunny with a trail of black jellybeans behind it, or as Whitney said, the turd pellets. Oddly enough, we have a similar tradition at Christmas here, except it’s a moose that dispenses jellybeans. I’ll leave it to you to guess from where. It always ends up in one of our stockings. Since Whitney had briefly dated new girl Molly, Patricia seated them next to each other.

The dessert was a cupcake, and kudos to Austen for showing us a whole new way to eat one, breaking off the bottom half and putting it on top of the icing, making it a cupcake sandwich. I’m definitely doing that the next time I have a cupcake. Whitney, being the debonaire Southern gent he is, said the cupcake was the last thing Molly needed. In Patricia’s interview, she said she was getting a kitty since she’d never have grandchildren.

At the end, it said, In Loving Memory of Michael Kelcourse, with a photo of him serving a martini in better days.

He’s not wrong.

This was sad.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Alexis says she has Jordan on record and the article will come out later in the week. Jordan thanks her and says, before she goes, she wanted to talk to Alexis about something else. This time off the record.

There’s a knock at Kristina’s door and she opens it to Blaze. Blaze asks, what’s her big news? and Kristina says, huh? obviously just waking up.

Brook brings Maxie some caffeine to start her day, and Maxie thanks her, but says, Lucy is going to lose it if she finds Brook here. Why is she stopping by so early? Brook says she’s not just stopping by. She’s coming back to work at Deception.

At the stables, Cody finds a wrapped gift with a card that says, Merry Christmas Cody. He says, Santa? Is this from you? It’s a little early for Christmas. Sasha hides around the corner.

At the café, Diane does paperwork as she and Robert have coffee. Robert says, that bad, huh? and Diane says, what are they talking about? He says, their first time together and here she is, barely taking a second breath, and with her face in her work already. It’s hardly what you’d call a ringing endorsement. She swipes her work to the floor and says, he was magnificent.

Martin says, he’ll keep this brief because he knows Laura is a very busy civil servant, but he’s wondering if there are any updates in the Austin Gatlin-Holt murder investigation. She says, if he’s asking if their brother is still a suspect, he is.

Sonny tells Donna, that’s a big list, and she says, they’ve got a big family. He says, they do, but you know what’s great? She’s so generous in wanting to buy everyone something. She asks what he wants for Christmas, and he says he’s got everything he wants. She says she’s getting him a special present anyway, and he suggests they focus on other people right now. They’ve got a lot of shopping to do. She asks if Grandpa Mike took him Christmas shopping when he was little, and Sonny says, he did, all the time. Donna asks if she can see his picture, and Sonny shows her a picture of Mike on his phone. She asks if he misses him, and he says, every day. Every single day.

Donna asks, what kind of hat is that? and Sonny says, it’s called a cap. She says, that’s not a baseball cap, and he says, it’s a different kind of cap. His dad loved that cap, and after her grandfather died, he kept it. She asks if she can see it, but he says, it got lost. He kept looking for it, and even asked Donna’s mom if it was in her house, but she said, it’s gone. There’s a knock at the door, and Sonny says he bets that’s her brother. They go to the door, and Sonny opens it to Michael. Sonny thanks him for coming, and Michael says, of course (🍷). He heard they’re doing a little Christmas shopping. Sonny says, she’s got a big list of people she wants to buy presents for; he’ll text it to Michael. Donna asks if he won’t come with them, and Sonny says he wishes he could, but he’s got an important appointment. But go with Michael, and he’ll meet her there. Is that good? She nods and says, it’s a deal. They high-five, since apparently, Donna loves a good high-five. I have to say, she is one super cute kid.

Robert helps Diane pick up her paperwork, and says he really loves the grand gesture, but they’re not in school. He doesn’t need a pat on the head. He just needs to know that she enjoyed herself. She says, they’ve been around each other long enough now for him to know she doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He says he figured that one, and she says, and she’s perfectly capable of asking for exactly what she wants. He says he learned that last night, and she says, yes, he did, and laughs. For the record, she only exaggerates in court. He says, well then, let the record show, counselor, we both enjoyed ourself. He takes her in his arms, and they kiss.

Martin says, Cyrus told him that Laura came to see him, and she says she did. It was a very unsettling meeting. His passion and commitment for his family… Well, to their family… He says, it makes you want to believe in him, and she asks if that happens to him. He says, more often than he cares to admit. Their brother’s a very complicated man. He’s ruthless and manipulative, but he is doggedly loyal. He always goes about it the wrong way, but he’ll never give up on family. Which is something Cyrus has in common with her. She says, it’s true. She doesn’t give up on family, but she doesn’t turn a blind eye either. If Cyrus killed Dr. Gatlin-Holt, he must be prosecuted. Martin says, indeed. Far be it from him to give old Cy the benefit of the doubt, but there’s nothing on this earth Cyrus values more than Laura’s opinion. He got himself released from prison and has a chance to prove himself to her. Why would he throw that away?

Jordan tells Alexis that TJ stopped by her office last night to tell her that he and Molly are trying for another baby; this time with Kristina as the surrogate. She assumes Alexis already knew. Alexis says, the girls told her about it yesterday, and Jordan says she’ll be honest. She doesn’t know how she feels about this. Obviously, she’s excited about the possibility of having a grandchild, and she imagines Alexis is as well. Alexis says, very much, and Jordan says, this all came just a little bit out of the blue for her. She talked to TJ about it, so she knows how he feels, and she’s sure Alexis knows how Molly feels, but she wants to know how Alexis feels about this.

Blaze says, Kristina sent her a cryptic text saying she had big news, then went completely silent. Kristina didn’t answer any of her texts or calls. Kristina says she’s sorry. She should have answered Blaze. Blaze says, it’s okay. She was just worried something happened to Kristina. Kristina says, the day just got away from her, and it wasn’t something she wanted to talk about in text, or even on the phone really. Blaze says she’s here now. It can be in person. What’s her big news? Kristina says she’s going to have a baby.

Cody says, last chance to identify yourself. Otherwise, he’s going to have to assume they’re a secret admirer – he wanders around as he talks, but Sasha stays a step ahead of him – who doesn’t want him to know who they are. He almost catches her, but she dashes out of sight. He says, or they’re one of his many enemies and this present is somehow boobytrapped, and he will be forced to destroy it. Sasha comes out laughing, and he says he knew that would get her. She says, he may have a secret admirer, but the gift is from her, and no, it’s not boobytrapped. He asks if he can open it now or does he have to wait until Christmas? She says, it’s up to him.

Maxie says, Brook is coming back to Deception? Why? Brook says she has her reasons, and Maxie says, please clue her in. The first time Brook came to work at Deception, it was so Maxie could be closer to Baby Lu… Thanks for that, by the way; she’s still super grateful. Brook says, she’s welcome, and Maxie says, the second time, was to spy for Tracy. Not really a high point in their friendship, but she’s moving past it. Brook is a music manager now and she loves that job. Why come back to Deception? Brook says, so she can gain control of the company and give it to Maxie.

Cody tears the paper off the gift, uncovering a book, and says, oh wow. Monument Valley. This is great. He sits down and opens it, and she says she’s glad he likes it. He says, look at that sunset. Can she believe colors like this actually exist in nature? She says, she thought the same thing. It’s funny. She sits next to him, and he says he’s wanted to go here ever since he saw it in one of those old Westerns. It’s pretty ironic that his first trip there will be a photoshoot. The last thing he ever thought he’d be is a model. She tells him not to sell himself short. He’s really getting the hang of it. He says, she’s the expert, but he thinks he and these rock formations will just be a backdrop for her beauty.

Laura thanks Sonny for coming to her office. She knows it was a very last-minute invitation. He says he knew when she asked to see him, it was important. He doesn’t know if it’s a very good idea to do it here. She says she’s been to his office. It only seems fair to welcome him to hers. He says, it’s the public perception of what she does, but she says, if she’s learned one thing since becoming mayor, it’s that people are going to talk about her, regardless. He says he gets it, but they both know he has a reputation in this town, and her inviting him to her office opens her up to allegations of corruption. She says, if somebody wants to investigate her for something, she doesn’t care. She has nothing to hide. He says he just doesn’t want anything to happen to her job. This city needs her. The last thing he wants is for her to be investigated or thrown out of her office, especially because of him. She says, please don’t worry about that. She has no intentions of losing her office, but speaking of investigations, that’s why she asked him here. She’d like to talk to him about the Austin Gatlin-Holt murder case.

Donna looks out the window, and Michael says, they’d better get going. If she wants to get all the presents on her list, they have to get started. Donna asks, if you wish on a star, does your wish come true? and he says, that’s what he’s heard. She says, but there are no stars to wish on, and he says, there’s always stars. You can see them better at night, when it’s dark outside, but there’s stars in the daytime too. She asks if you have to see a star to wish on it, and he says, no. The star knows you’ve made a wish whether you see it or not. She says she’s going to make a wish, and he says, go for it. She looks out again and says, star, it’s me, Donna Corinthos. I can’t see you, but my brother says you’ll know I made this wish. I wish on you that I could find Grandpa Mike’s cap for daddy. This kid is killing me with her cuteness.

Alexis says she’s very happy at the thought of Molly and TJ having a baby, and Jordan says, they’re in agreement on this. Alexis says, then she started to make a list of everything that could go wrong, and how this could potentially end in tragedy. Then she spoke with a friend of hers and he shifted her perspective into a more positive place, tried to calm her down, and boy, being a parent is challenging, isn’t it? Jordan says, it’s been the hardest and best thing she’s ever done, and Alexis says, same. She’s proud of her three girls. She loves being a parent and wants Molly and TJ to have that experience. And Kristina wants to give it to them. Jordan says she agrees. She thinks it’s an amazing gift Kristina is offering them, but does it have to happen right now?

Kristina tells Blaze that Molly and TJ decided to have a baby, and they were super excited about it, but Molly found out she can’t physically carry a child of her own. It was awful. It completely blindsided her. Blaze says, that’s terrible. Of course (🍷) it did. Kristina says, they started exploring their options and felt really good about surrogacy. They found this woman they both really liked and she got pregnant, but then she lost the baby. It was devastating. Blaze says she can only imagine. She’s so sorry. Kristina says she was walking through the park and saw her sister, her super controlled Type-A sister, just absolutely bawling in a public place, not caring who was there or who saw. It just broke her heart. She’s assuming Blaze might know where she’s going with this, and Blaze says she does. Kristina says, it just became really clear to her, she genuinely wants to do this. She wants to give Molly and TJ the thing they want more than anything in this whole world. She can’t really tell what Blaze is thinking right now. Is Blaze about to tell her that she’s crazy for doing this? Blaze says, crazy? No. She takes Kristina’s hand and says she’s thinking Kristina is wonderful and generous, and anyone would be lucky to have a sister like her, but she’s talked a lot about being able to give Molly what she wants. What about what Kristina wants?

Cody thanks Sasha for the perfect gift, and says he feels terrible that he doesn’t have something for her. She says, he already saved her life and her sanity. He’s given her the best gift she could have asked for. He tells her, stop. Don’t say that.

Brook says she knows everything that happened because of her grandmother put Maxie in a bad placed financially. Maxie says she can’t deny that, but Tracy forced Brook to do it, so it really wasn’t her fault. Brook says, Tracy told her the reason why she got control of Deception was to give it to her. At first, she rejected Tracy’s offer, but she just told Tracy that she changed her mind. So the plan is, she’ll start working here again and she’ll convince Tracy that she’s grateful for the opportunity. Then… Maxie says, what then? What is she plotting? Brook says, the next part of the plan is still a work in progress, but she’ll either convince Tracy into signing over control to her or she’ll blackmail her into doing it. Either way, she won’t stop until Deception belongs to Maxie. So what does she think? Lucy walks in and says, who let the spy back in?

Kristina thinks Blaze isn’t so sure she should do this, but Blaze tells her, that’s not what she’s saying. But there’s a big difference between wanting to help her sister and wanting to be pregnant for nine months and give birth to a child. One is seeing Molly hurting and generously wanting to help. The second is a huge commitment and life-changing event. Kristina says she knows no one is going to know for sure how their body will handle a pregnancy, but she’s in great health and the odds are never going to be higher for her than right now to get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby successfully. She knows it sounds so weird to say this, but she knows in her gut that she’s supposed to do this. So Blaze is right that she’s doing this for Molly and for TJ, but she’s also doing this for herself.

Diane asks how they’re going to refer to each other moving forward, and he asks what she means. She says, when she gossips about last night with Alexis – and FYI, she’s gonna – he says, noted – how should she refer to him? Is he her boyfriend? He says, boyfriend, grey hair, long in the tooth, no. He doesn’t feel like he’s anyone’s boyfriend. She says, okay, lover, and he says, absolutely not. She laughs and says, okay, suitor. Main squeeze. How about this? Adult companion. He says, that seems to indicate that money may have changed hands somewhere along the line, and she chokes on her coffee, laughing. He asks if they can’t just say they’re involved, but she says she’d like it to be a little more definitive. How about, they’re just dating? That is, after all, what they’re doing. He says, dating’s good, and she says, good… Are they dating exclusively? He sits back in his chair. I’m laughing because it is a weird thing. Boyfriend sounds like you’re in high school, lover is corny and TMI. I like significant other, but it’s kind of long. So where do you go?

Laura says she knows Sonny is aware that Dante is assisting the Pautuck PD in its investigation of the murder, and he says he and Dante agreed a long time ago for the sake of their relationship, not to discuss Dante’s work. She says, or his, and he says, right. They try to avoid any conflict of interest. Laura says, except she does know he spoke to Dante at some point about Austin, and he asks, why is that? She says, because she asked Dante to give her an update about the murder investigation, and he told her, a reliable and confidential source had informed him that Austin and his cousin Mason were working for her brother Cyrus. He says, really, and she says, his son wouldn’t give up his source, but she knows it’s him.

Lucy says, Brook has some nerve stepping foot back in Deception. She should have Brook arrested for industrial espionage, or maybe intellectual property theft. Maxie says, it’s okay. Brook is here… Lucy says, because why? Does she want to sniff around some more to find out some proprietary information that she can steal from them? Brook says, it’s not stealing if you have a controlling interest in the company, which her grandmother does. Lucy says, Tracy doesn’t care about this company. Tracy doesn’t care about Deception, but she does, and Tracy needs to keep her filthy hands away from here, and Brook needs to stay away from here too. Brook says, it doesn’t matter what Lucy thinks. Tracy’s 51% says she has more of a right to be here than Lucy. Lucy moves toward Brook, but Maxie says, okay, putting her hand in between them.

Cody says, Sasha doesn’t need to thank him. He’s happy that for once he was able to get out of his own way and do the right thing. Trust him. That isn’t always the case. She says she doesn’t care what happened in his past. She’s just thankful for the man he is now, and she’s so grateful that he was able to come to her rescue. He says he doesn’t want her gratitude… What he means to say is, there’s a fine line between feeling grateful to someone, and feeling an obligation to someone. He doesn’t want her to owe him; he wants her to like him. She says, he already knows she does. He heard her say it to Maxie. He says he also heard her say she’s not ready to move on yet. She’s still grieving over the loss of her husband and child. The last thing that would be okay for him is for her to rush through that process because she’s trying to give him something she thinks he wants.

As they walk through Rice Plaza, Michael says, Donna got a lot of presents. Is she ready to take a break? She says, but they don’t have all the presents yet, and he says, they got a lot. Doesn’t she want to save something to buy with her dad? She says, what about daddy’s presents? What does she give him if her wish doesn’t come true? He says, sometimes wishes don’t come true exactly the way you expect, because wishes are magic, and magic is unpredictable. So how about if they buy a back-up gift just in case? She says, look! and runs over to a bench. She picks up a cap that looks just like Mike’s.

Laura says she didn’t ask Sonny here to put him on the spot. She asked him here because she trusts him. She needs to know. Did Cyrus kill Dr. Gatlin-Holt? He says he thinks that’s for the police to figure out, and she says, oh come on. He’s in a position to know things before other people do. She’s asking him, is her brother a murderer? He says, her brother Cyrus has murdered in the past, and he doesn’t for one second believe Cyrus’s religious reformation. But he doesn’t think Cyrus killed Austin Gatlin-Holt. She says, except Dante said Dr. Gatlin-Holt went to see him the night he was killed, and he was prepared to give up the name of his boss. Sonny asks if he gave up that name, but she says, no, he didn’t. He left to go gather proof. Sonny asks if she thinks Cyrus had Austin killed to shut him up, and she says, doesn’t he?

Robert tells Diane that he likes his women. He likes commitment. One woman at a time. She says she’s well-aware of that. She’s well-aware of his exceptional commitment to the women in his life. She’s witnessed it firsthand. Anytime Holly or Anna needed him, he was there. He says, they have a lot of history together. He can’t change that. They would do the same for him. She says she gets it. However, moving forward, if she’s to be exclusive with him, she needs to know that she’s his number one priority.

Sonny tells Laura that he doesn’t see how Cyrus would have known Austin was talking to Dante. Cyrus has no money. He has no manpower to keep Austin under surveillance. And he doesn’t think for a second Dante leaked out the information. Laura says, he wouldn’t do that, and Sonny says, if he doesn’t know, Cyrus has no motive to kill Austin. As a matter of fact, it’s the opposite because Austin helped him get out of prison. So he sees Austin as an asset. She says, that makes sense, and he says, if Cyrus thought Austin was a problem, there are other ways to deal with him. Murder is too risky. With all due respect, he despises her brother, but he’s not stupid. He just got out of prison and he’s going to do everything he can not to go back. She thanks him, and says, it’s really been weighing on her, the kind of man her brother is. It’s a huge relief to know that Sonny doesn’t think he killed Dr. Gatlin-Holt.

Blaze says, listening to Kristina talk about her decision is really inspiring. She doesn’t know if she’s ever done anything this selfless. It’s profound. Kristina says, Blaze is making her sound like a saint. Billions of women have given birth successfully, and she’s sure it’s as big and scary as it seems, but she feels like she’s got this. Blaze says, she might not feel the same way when she’s in labor, and Kristina says she plans on being in excellent physical condition and plan for every scenario. And when she goes into labor… she plans to ask for all the drugs. Blaze laughs, and Kristina thanks her for being so supportive. She knows this isn’t traditional. Blaze tells Kristina that she meant what she said. She’s in awe of Kristina for wanting to do this. Kristina says she really appreciates Blaze being so understanding about this, because she’s really committed to this pregnancy and it’s a big change in her life. And for me and you… If there is me and you.

Alexis tells Jordan, in a perfect world, yes. It would be better for them to wait six months or a year or longer for Kristina to become a surrogate. Jordan says, so they’re on the same page then, and Alexis says, yes, but the timeline becomes problematic, because they’re assuming Kristina gets pregnant right away. And they both know it doesn’t always happen like that. Jordan says, true. None of this is a perfect science. Alexis says, Kristina’s very committed to doing this, but it’s not fair to ask her to put her life on hold for another year or longer waiting to get pregnant. Jordan says she can’t argue with that, and Alexis says, the bottom line is, she and Jordan don’t get a vote on this. All three of them are adults, Molly and TJ want this baby, and they want this baby as soon as possible. They don’t get to just tell them to wait.

Lucy says, Brook doesn’t know half of the horrible, horrible things Tracy has done. She’s blackmailed so many people, she could fill out an entire punch card. Brook says, like Lucy is so perfect. She’s been known to scam rich men out of their money, and also secretly plotted to help Valentin gain control of ELQ. And how many times has she cheated on the loves of her life, huh? Lucy says, lots. Enjoyed it all. She’s made mistakes. She never said she didn’t. The fact of the matter is, she created Deception, and her vision is what made Deception successful. Brook says, and she almost ran it into the ground, almost bankrupt it, and Maxie too… Lucy says, because of Brook, and Brook says, Maxie is nothing but loyal and hardworking. Lucy shouldn’t be mad at Tracy. She should be thanking Tracy for stepping in and saving her and Deception.

Cody tells Sasha to take as much time as she needs. She’s dealing with enough in her life without him putting any pressure on her. And hey, if they’re never anything more than just friends and co-models, that’s good with him too. She says, really? and he says he promises. She says, okay. As her friend, he’s obligated to listen to her. He says, oh, is he? and she says, absolutely. He needs to stop being so hard on himself. He’s not nearly as bad as he wants to believe. As a matter of fact, most of the time he’s pretty great.

Lucy says she doesn’t owe Brook’s grandmother Tracy for anything. Never thank you. Certainly not. Because guess what? What matters is Maxie. And she knows the big sacrifice Lucy made when she took Tracy’s deal to keep Deception solvent. Maxie says she does. And Lucy knows she appreciates that. She’s so grateful for her job. Brook says, since Tracy owns this company and her grandmother wants her here, she’s staying. Lucy says, yippee. Super swell. This is Maxie’s problem now, because she will never ever, ever deal with someone who flat-out lied to her face and spied on her. She walks out, and Brook says she wasn’t expecting it to go well, but she certainly wasn’t expecting that. Maxie says, that was a lot, but Brook says, it’s okay. She’s a big girl and can handle it. Let Lucy go take it up with Tracy. They both know her grandmother will flatten Lucy. Maxie says she doesn’t understand. Why would Brook want that? Before Lucy came in here, Brook was telling her about how she was going to get the company back for them. Brook says she’s getting the company back for Maxie. Only Maxie. Promise her, when she finally gets this done, Maxie will have sole control of the company. Brook wants Maxie to be able to run this company the way she wants. Away from all of Lucy’s crazy shenanigans. Maxie says she thinks they’re getting a little bit ahead of themselves. Why don’t they get control of the company, then they’ll figure out how to divide it up? Brook says, they’ll get control of this company. Maxie knows she’s right. Because when the two of them join forces, they are unstoppable.

Cody says he actually bought Sasha a gift a few weeks ago. The first time in his life he’s planned ahead, but when he saw it, he knew he had to get it for her. She says she’s intrigued, and he says, as she should be. They promised it would be here before Christmas. He’s waiting for them to come through. She asks if she ever told him that she’s very bad at waiting for something she’s excited about, and he says, she’ll just have to be patient. She says, that’s not her strong suit, and she struggles with her coat. Cody tries to help her, and they end up close, face to face. She says she should get going. She’ll see him later. He says, see ya, and she leaves. He sits down, picks up the book, and opens it. It says: To my friend Cody, Thanks for coming to my rescue. Sasha.

Kristina says she likes Blaze, and she doesn’t want this to end. She knows this is early, so if Blaze wants to bail out now before she gets the size of a house, feel free. Blaze says she thinks Kristina will look amazing when she’s pregnant, but she always thinks Kristina looks amazing. Including right now. She takes Kristina’s hand and says she likes Kristina. She likes what’s happening between them, and she doesn’t want to cut it short before it has a chance to become something. She still wants to see where this goes. Kristina says she likes Blaze too, and they kiss. She tells Blaze, and now she’s really actually glad Blaze woke her up early. Blaze says, it’s not early. Kristina does realize she’s a musician and even she’s been up for hours. Kristina says, just her luck. She finds herself a singer who’s an early riser. Blaze says, this singer is about to be late for a run-through with her choreographer, but let’s touch base. Maybe they’ll meet up later? They need to celebrate Kristina’s decision with some wine before she has to give up alcohol. Kristina says, nooo, and Blaze says, for nine months. Kristina says she’d love that. Sounds perfect. They kiss and Blaze leaves.

Alexis tells Jordan, the kids are going to be fantastic parents. They’ll love the hell out of that baby and that baby’s lucky to have them. Jordan says she knows, and she can’t wait to see them holding her first grandchild. So she’ll try to adjust her thinking and be on board like Alexis. If this is what they want – and they are adamant that it is – then she’ll do her best to support it.

Robert tells Diane, Holly came to town largely to save Ethan’s life. It would have been remiss of him not to step in and help her. Not to mention, honor Luke’s memory. She says she gets it. That was a special circumstance. She’ll never appreciate the way Holly went about it, but Holly was desperate, and she understands. What about Anna? He says he and Anna are connected through Robin and the grandkids. That’s never going to change; they’re family. That hasn’t stopped him from getting closer to Diane and enjoying every minute of it. She says she’s enjoyed every minute of it too. All that aside, she needs to know that the next time Holly drops into Port Charles because of an emergency or Anna calls when they’re together, things will be different. He says, understood. The next time one of his exes needs assistance, he’ll have to point out that she’s his priority. She says, then here’s to our well-negotiated, hard-earned agreement, Mr. Scorpio, and lifts her coffee cup. He says, you are worth it, and she says, that’s right. They clink coffee cups.

Martin knocks at Laura’s office door and says, it’s him again. She says, back so soon? Please tell her it’s with some sort of proof of their brother’s innocence. He asks if she wants to run that by him again, how she wants Cyrus to be exonerated, and she says she guesses she does. He asks, what happened? and she says, Sonny Corinthos was just here, at her invitation, and she asked him straight up if he thought Cyrus murdered Dr. Gatlin-Holt. He said he didn’t think so, and right at that moment, she could feel the knot in her chest sort of melt away. She guesses it’s surprising for her to realize how much she doesn’t want him to be guilty. She does want him to turn his life around. Does Martin think it’s possible? Martin says, a hell of a lot more possible now that he has Laura to look up to.

Sonny finds Donna and Michael in Rice Plaza and asks Donna how the shopping is going. She says she didn’t shop for his present; she wished for it. He says, really, and Michael tells her, show him. She brings out the cap and says, this is for him. Sonny takes it, looks it over, and says, this is Mike’s. Angels We Have Heard on High plays in the background, and Michael says, Donna found it. It was sitting over there like someone left it. Sonny says, really? and Michael says, yeah. Sonny says he can’t believe that, and Michael says, neither could he. They were going to ask around and see if anyone lost a hat, but he checked it and it’s actually Mike’s cap. Sonny says he wonders where it came from, and Donna says she told him. She wished for it. On a star. Her wish came true! It’s magic! Sonny says, let him tell her something about her granddad. He believed in magic and wishes. He’d be very proud of her. She says, merry Christmas, daddy, and hugs him. Sonny says, merry Christmas, sweetheart, and looks at Michael. He looks up and says, merry Christmas, dad.

On Monday, Brook says, there’s one thing she and Violet agree on; Kristina tells Dr. Navarro that she’d like to get started as soon as possible; Anna tells Dante, don’t say she didn’t warn him; and Brennan says he’d like to get to know Carly better.

December 20, 2022 – Spencer Is Done With Nikolas (Really This Time), Goodbye Sonja, Leaving the Hospital, He Was Hooked, Lighting the Menorah, Putting Up the Tree & Wrapping

Standard

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Elizabeth says, Ava… but Ava says, there’s no need for phony small talk. It’s a bit risky, isn’t it, for a woman like Elizabeth to be in this chapel? She wouldn’t want to be struck by lightning after sneaking around with Ava’s husband. Elizabeth says she knows she owes Ava… Ava says, what? A thank you maybe? For keeping Nikolas occupied until he realized Elizabeth wanted him again? Elizabeth says she’s sorry, and Ava says, no, she’s not, but she will be.

Spencer comes inside Windymere, and checks his phone. It says no new messages, and he looks at the one from Trina that says, Welcome home.

Dex holds Josslyn, and she says she’s sorry, stepping back. He tells her, don’t be. She needed that, and it’s time she stopped denying herself what she needs.

Sam comes into the gym, and Cody says he has to talk to her. She says, he’s still here? and he says, at the gym? She says, no, Port Charles. She thought he was leaving town. He says he was going to, but Dante convinced him to stay, and Sam says, that’s because when Dante sees Cody, he sees his childhood friend; but when she sees him, she sees him as a bully and a con artist. She didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, so… He says he heard about the cop that got killed. How’s Dante handling it? She says she couldn’t say, and he tells her, look, he knows she wants him out of her life, but just answer one thing. Bully or not, Dante’s his friend and he’s worried. She says she can’t tell him how Dante is because she doesn’t know. She hasn’t seen him since yesterday.

At the hospital, Dante tells TJ that he needs to get Rory’s medical records, reports, anything that could help them catch his killer. TJ asks if he’ll still be here in a few minutes, and Dante says he will be. TJ says he’s hoping Dante can help him with something, and leaves. Mac comes in, and says, Dante looks like hell. Dante thanks him, and says he appreciates that. Did he talk to Rory’s mom? Mac says he told her that Rory’s body would be released as soon as possible. He has the autopsy report, and they found snake venom in Rory’s blood. Dante says, let him guess; the same toxin that was found in Diane, Brando, and Oz Haggerty. Looks like they’ve got a serial killer on their hands.

Drew asks Denise if he can trust everything she recalls, and she says, excuse me? He says, the stakes are high. He doesn’t have time for games. He checked out her story, the one that was identical to Harmony’s, and she didn’t tell him the truth about Willow’s mother. Carly walks in, and Drew says, every word out of Denise’s mouth has been a lie. She says, he’s calling her a liar? and he says, yeah, because she lied, and he needs to know why. What is she covering up? Who is she trying to protect? Denise glances at Carly, and Nina and Carly lock eyes.

Josslyn says, she’s good now. Dex can go. He says he’s under orders to stay with her, and she says, Sonny is his boss, not hers. He says he’s not leaving until Steve gets here, and her phone dings. She looks at a text from Cameron that says: Checking in – How u doing? She tells Dex to suit himself.

Ava says, it looks like St. Elizabeth has finally shown her true colors. Not only was she screwing Nikolas behind Ava’s back, she was screwing him behind Finn’s. She ran into Finn the other night, and he seemed a little off. Now she has to wonder, does he suspect? Does he know? Maybe she’ll ask him. Elizabeth says, he knows; she told him. Ava says, of course (🍷) she did. It’s best to get right out in front of it, isn’t it? Saying she’s sorry, telling him it will never happen again. Does Elizabeth plan on keeping Nikolas and Finn on their respective leashes? Not that she cares. She doesn’t care at all what happens between Elizabeth and Finn; although he seems like a decent guy. Finn probably deserves better, but if Elizabeth thinks she’s holding on to Nikolas, that is not going to happen. Elizabeth says, no. She and Nikolas have no future. Ava says she knows this one by heart. Elizabeth and Nikolas turn to each other when they’re both feeling lost and confused, and in so much pain. Let her tell Elizabeth something. Neither one of them knows what real pain is, so take cover. Not only will Elizabeth lose everything she cost Ava, by the time Ava is done, she’ll have lost so much more.

Cody says, Sam hasn’t heard from Dante since that cop was killed? but she says, he called and texted her last night to say he was going to be okay. He wanted her to tell the kids he was going to be okay. She could practically feel all of Dante’s feelings bottled up. She gets it. It’s really tough when you lose one of your own. Cody says he guesses Dante is doing his whole don’t worry about me I’ll be fine thing. He can’t say he’s all that surprised. Sam asks what he’s talking about, and Cody says, he’s always the first to step up when someone else needs help, but the last to ask when he needs it. One time he broke his arm at camp, and ended up being the one to console Mama Q, not the other way around. Dante has always been the strong, silent type. She says, no. One of the things she loves most about Dante is how open he is, and how willing he is to talk things out. Cody says, that’s good. It’s great, but new. She says, they don’t keep things from each other. That’s how she knows, whatever Dante is going through, it’s bad.

Dante looks in a folder, and tells Mac, there’s got to be something that will help them figure out where Esme is holed up, but Mac says, all they have is the earring Elizabeth found on Rory. Mac’s phone rings, and he steps away. He asks what he can do for Cody, and Cody says, sorry to bug him, but he still had Mac’s number in his phone from when Mac thought Cody was his son. Mac asks, what’s up? and Cody says he was hoping Mac knew where Dante was. Mac says he’s standing with Dante right now; why? Cody says, he’s with Sam at Volonino’s, and she’s worried because Dante didn’t come home last night. Mac says, thanks. On it.

Nina asks Phyllis, where was I? and Phyllis tells her, she was saying she had nothing to prove. Right before she got into that stare-down with Carly. Nina tells Phyllis, she was saying, she’s accepted the fact that her past is her past, and she’s done apologizing for it. From now on, she’s just looking toward the future. Phyllis says she’s glad to hear it.

Carly gets a text from Michael asking for a raincheck on lunch, and apologizing. At the table, Denise says, Drew came looking for her. It’s not her fault if he doesn’t like what she has to say. He says he doesn’t like it because it’s not the truth. So, one more time… She says she doesn’t have to take this, and gets up, but Carly jets over to the table, and asks, what’s going on? Drew introduces Denise, and Carly flashes back to telling Denise that she can’t believe it’s come to this, but it’s for the best. This friend of hers and Drew’s can’t find out who her birth mother is. It will cause her a world of pain. Carly remembers Denise asking if Carly is trying to justify it to herself, because she doesn’t care about the reasons, as long as Carly’s check clears. In the present, Carly holds out her hand, and says, it’s nice to meet Denise. Denise ignores Carly’s hand, and tells her, if you say so. Carly sits down, and Drew says, Denise was a member of the Friends of Peace and Love commune; that’s when she knew Harmony. Of course (🍷) then Harmony went by her given name. Carly says, Lorraine, right? and Drew says, exactly. He asked Denise how Harmony ended up raising Willow. Denise says, she told him, but Drew says, she told him a story, and that story doesn’t add up. He did a little digging, and he found out the woman that Denise claims is Willow’s mom, poor Joan, doesn’t exist. She lied. And she’s not leaving here until she tells him why.

Nikolas comes home, and sits on the sofa, when Spencer walks in. Nikolas says he wants to talk to him, and Spencer says, about Esme?

Phyllis asks Nina, what happened to the happy-go-lucky woman she was just talking to? and Nina says, she’s still in there. It’s just that she’s mentally preparing herself for Carly to come down on her again. Phyllis asks if Nina didn’t just say she was done apologizing for her past, and Nina says, her past, yes, but her present is a different story. Phyllis asks, what happened? and Nina says she got into another fight with Willow. Phyllis says she’s sure Nina had a good reason, and Nina says she certainly thought so at the time. Willow’s pregnant… Phyllis says she heard, and Nina says, the argument upset her so much, she fainted. Fortunately, Carly was there. Phyllis says she never thought she’d see the day Nina was thankful for Carly’s presence, and Nina says she didn’t know what to do; she just froze. Carly didn’t hesitate, and they both came together and helped Willow, and thank God she’s going to be okay. Phyllis says she knows Nina and Willow have had their differences, but she knows Nina doesn’t wish her any harm. Nina says, of course (🍷), even Carly admitted that, and Phyllis says, wonders never cease. Nina says she feels terrible about it though. She never knew Willow was having such a rough pregnancy.

Carly tells Drew that she thinks Denise had her reasons. Maybe she was trying to protect Harmony… Lorraine, or something. Denise says, Lorraine was her friend. It was a long time ago, but still. Carly says she also thinks it’s important to remember Lorraine is gone, so tell them the truth, and Carly will make it worth her while. Denise says, all right. Drew’s got her. There was no Joan. Lorraine and Doug already had the baby with them when they joined the commune.

TJ gives Dante an envelope, and says, these are the rest of Rory’s personal effects. He asks if Dante will see that Rory’s mother gets them, and Dante says he’ll take care of it. TJ says he didn’t know Rory well, but he seemed like a good guy, and Mac says, he was, and a good cop.  TJ says he hopes they catch this psycho soon, and Dante says, that’s the plan. TJ leaves, and Mac suggests Dante go home and get some rest, but Dante says he figured he’d go back to the crime scene. Mac says, Dante is off-duty; that’s an order. Dante says he’s too wired to sleep, and Mac says he’s taking Dante to the gym. A workout will do him good. He hustles Dante out of the hospital

Ava tells Elizabeth, nothing to say? No lame excuses for betraying Finn, for jumping into bed with Nikolas? At least she wasn’t married to his brother this time. Why is Elizabeth even here? Seeking solace, guidance from above, absolution? Ava lights a candle, and Elizabeth tells her, all she can say is, she made terrible mistakes and has to live with what she’s done. Ava says, give me a break Mary Magdalene, and Elizabeth says she should go. Ava says, no one is going to buy this noble martyr act, and she won’t be made the bad guy. For once, she’s done nothing wrong. If Elizabeth thinks she can tear Ava’s life apart, shed a few crocodile tears… Elizabeth tells her, shut up. Not everything is about her.

Josslyn says, just because Dex is standing guard doesn’t mean he actually has to stand while he’s guarding her, but he says he’s fine. She says she thought he was mad at her after what happened at Kelly’s, and he says, maybe he was. Did she think she needed to defend him from Spencer Cassadine? She says, Spencer did knock him flat, and he says, with a sucker punch. Should he have fought back? She says she’s glad he didn’t. Spencer is an idiot and a total jerk, but he’s been through a lot. Giving him a beatdown wouldn’t have proven anything. He says, it would have proven he can defend himself, and she says, for future reference, she doesn’t care what Spencer thinks. He says, what about what Cam thinks? He’s sorry. She says, for what? and he says, causing problems between them.

Sam tells Cody, stop it, and he says, stop what? She says, he’s lurking, and he says he was just doing some curls. She says, he’s stalling. Why is he even here? He says, that, and she turns to see Mac and Dante walk in. Dante says, Sam is here, and Mac says, what an amazing coincidence. Dante says he’s guessing Cody dropped the dime, and Cody asks if Dante is calling him a rat. Sam and Dante hug, and Dante says, sorry he didn’t call Sam. Mac gives Cody a thumbs up.

Phyllis comes back to the bar, and tells Nina, sorry about that. The audio system went down, but don’t worry, she fixed it. Nina stirs her coffee, and Phyllis says, she seems preoccupied again. More Carly? Nina says, who? Actually, she was thinking about how happy she was when she found out she was pregnant. She and Silas were going to be new parents, and she was overjoyed. Of course (🍷) she was a nervous young mother, but she really wanted that baby. She and Silas were having problems. He was cheating on her… with Ava actually. Phyllis says, now they’re best friends, and Nina says, life is funny. She thought her baby would save their marriage, and maybe it would have, but thanks to her mother, she never got to experience the one time she would or could ever have a baby. She will never forgive Madeline for robbing her of a life with her daughter.

Drew says, so Lorraine and Doug had the baby with them when they arrived at the commune? But they know Harmony wasn’t Willow’s birth mother; a DNA test proved that. Did they claim Willow was theirs? Denise says, Lorraine told everyone that her friend Joan had given her the baby to raise, but that was before they joined the commune, and Carly says, so Denise never met Willow’s biological mother. Denise says, no, and Drew asks, why did she lie? Denise says, like she told him, Lorraine was her friend, and she wanted to protect her, and whoever that baby grew up to be. Drew asks what she means by protect, and Denise says she always got the sense Lorraine was running from something… or someone.

Nikolas says, about Esme? and Spencer says, Esme killed Rory Cabrera. Nikolas says he heard an officer was attacked, and Spencer says, killed. Nikolas asks if that wasn’t the young man Trina was seeing, and Spencer says, he was. He was with Trina at Kelly’s when she found out Rory had been attacked. Joss and Cam were there too, and they all went to GH together, and Trina got to sit with Rory as he coded, or flatlined, or whatever they call it. She’s devastated. Nikolas asks how Spencer is feeling, and Spencer says, he barely knew Rory. Nikolas says, but he cares about Trina, and Spencer says, yes. He wants to be there for Trina, but he’s the last person who should be. So he’s relegated to standing by helpless, or staying away altogether, because he’s literally useless in this situation. There’s nothing he can do. Nikolas says he’d think Trina would want all the support her friends can give her, and Spencer says, even the so-called friend who brought Esme to town in the first place? Nikolas says, Spencer’s not responsible for Esme’s actions, and Spencer tells him, that’s exactly what grandmother said, so it must be true if they agree. Nikolas says, Laura tried calling him; it must have been about Officer Cabrera. Spencer says, Nikolas will have to ask her, and Nikolas says he’s glad she was there for Spencer. Spencer says he hopes they find Esme, and Nikolas says, there’s something else Spencer needs to know. He’s served Ava with divorce papers. Spencer says, which means a reconciliation around the corner, but Nikolas says, not this time. Spencer asks, why not? and Nikolas says, things happened. Spencer says, things? That does sound irreparable. Don’t tell him that Nikolas has finally seen Ava for the toxic opportunist she is. Nikolas tells him, don’t talk about Ava that way, and Spencer says, still defending her he sees. So it’s not really over, is it? Nikolas says, it is, but not because he doesn’t love her. He was unfaithful. Spencer says he knows; with Esme. The less they say about that, the better. Nikolas says, he was with someone else, and Spencer says, great. Whose girlfriend did Nikolas bang this time? He has no siblings, so Nikolas had to branch out. Who’s the lucky lady? Nikolas says, Elizabeth.

Ava says her husband cheated on her with Elizabeth. Damn right it’s about her. Elizabeth says, Ava left Nikolas months ago, and Ava says, so what; she leaves Nikolas all the time. And like an idiot, she always comes back. She supposes she should thank Elizabeth for snapping her out of it. Elizabeth says she didn’t do this to hurt Ava, and Ava says, this what? Cheap affair? Tawdry hook-up? She hopes Elizabeth doesn’t think it’s any more than that, that she’s special somehow. She wasn’t even Nikolas’s first choice. That honor goes to his son’s girlfriend Esme. Elizabeth says, Nikolas told her about that, and Ava says, so Nikolas lied to her, and told Elizabeth the truth, and she jumped into bed with him anyway. So now does Elizabeth think she and Nikolas are going to have some kind of happily ever after? That she can forget about all the pain she’s caused people, and move on; her, Nikolas, and their brand new baby? Elizabeth says, there’s not going to be a baby.

Josslyn says, Dex hasn’t caused problems for her and Cam, and he says, glad to hear it. She says, the problem is her. She’s been putting off a conversation that she has to have with Cameron. She’s been hiding, which makes her a coward, which she hates, but it has nothing to do with Dex. His phone dings, and he says, Steve’s here. She says, good; Dex can go. Please tell Steve to wait outside. She doesn’t want any of Sonny’s people in her house. He says, one question. Is she sorry they kissed? She doesn’t say anything, and he says, yeah, him neither, and leaves.

Phyllis says she thought Nina was focusing on her future, and Nina says, that’s easier said than done. Meanwhile, back to the present. Why doesn’t Phyllis distract her by telling her about this hunky guy she’s been texting?

Denise says she’s sorry she lied. Drew clearly cares about Lorraine’s daughter, but her advice, not that he asked, don’t go digging into Lorraine’s past. Whatever she was running from, whatever trouble she was in, she was afraid of it. She didn’t show it often, but she also didn’t stay in one place for very long. Maybe she was restless, but Denise thinks it was something more. All she’s saying is, Willow sounds like she has a good life now. Denise gets up and gathers her things, and says, maybe she should keep looking forward instead of looking back. She leaves, and Carly says, she left her gloves, and follows. Outside, she gives Denise her gloves, along with some cash, and says, thanks for not ratting her out. Denise tells Carly that she’d like to say, it was a pleasure doing business with her, but she just wants to go home. It was stupid of her to get mixed up with this in the first place. Carly says she understands. Question. Was she telling the truth to Drew? Was Lorraine really running from someone? Denise says, she was jumpy around strangers; always seemed to be looking over her shoulder.

Mac thanks Cody for calling, and says he’s sure Sam and Dante are better now. Cody says, bringing people together is what he does, and Mac says, he did a good thing. Cody says, what about Mac? Sam was talking about how hard it is for cops to lose someone in the line of duty. Mac says he’s been here before. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get any easier. He just can’t help thinking about the future Rory would have had. All the things he could have done with his life if he hadn’t gone to that apartment alone. It’s such a waste. Cody says, it’s crazy that one bad decision can change your whole life.

Spencer says, Elizabeth who? Do not tell him that Nikolas means Cameron’s mother. Nikolas says he does, and Spencer says, my God, she’s practically family. Does Cameron know? Nikolas says he’s not sure. He doesn’t think so. Spencer says, how did this… Why? Nikolas says, they were both having a hard time, and Spencer says, Nikolas was having a hard time; she was having a full-blown crisis. She checked herself into rehab because the sleeping pills she was on were making her think crazy things. Cam’s been worried sick about her for months, and what? Nikolas saw that she was vulnerable, distressed, in pain, confused, and he thought there was no way she’d turn him down? He’s disgusting. Nikolas says, it’s been a long time since Elizabeth came back from the hospital. They’re both consenting adults. Spencer says, no. She was obviously unraveling, and that’s why she turned to Nikolas, and he took advantage of their friendship. How are he and Cameron supposed to look at each other after he’s done this? Nikolas says he wouldn’t be telling Spencer this if it was a one-time indiscretion. He and Elizabeth have been seeing each other. Spencer says, after Esme, he didn’t know that he could think less of Nikolas. Turns out he can.

Ava ask what Elizabeth means by no baby, and Elizabeth says she’s no longer pregnant. Ava asks if Nikolas knows, and Elizabeth says, not yet. Ava says she’s so sorry for Elizabeth’s loss. She should go, but a word to the wise. If Elizabeth is expecting Nikolas to comfort her, forget it. That man only cares about himself. She strides out, closing the door behind her.

Spencer says, a man who would use a woman’s emotional problems to move in on her… Nikolas says, that’s not what happened, but Spencer says, that’s exactly what happened. And the fact Nikolas can’t see that makes it all worse. To think he almost bought in on Uncle Victor’s garbage about their being strength in family. There is no strength. There is no family. Nikolas has proven time and time again that this family is unsalvageable. He’s said it before, and he’ll say it again, he’s done with Nikolas. This is over. The sad part was that he bought into the fairytale that grandmother’s influence saved Nikolas. But she was too late because Nikolas was already a Cassadine through and through by the time she came into his life. Nikolas says, his mother made him a better person, and Spencer says, he was worse than this before? Nikolas says he has reasons, but Spencer says he doesn’t care. The second his sentence is over, and he’s free to live where he pleases, he’s out of here.

Drew asks Phyllis, when she was in New York, does she ever remember Lorraine talking about a baby, or a friend who was pregnant? Carly comes back in, and Phyllis says, not that she recalls. Carly and Drew both go back to their table, and Carly asks, what was that all about? He says, Phyllis was Nina’s nurse when she was in a coma, and Harmony worked in the same building, and they knew each other. Carly says she thinks she remembers Phyllis telling her that, and he says, if Harmony and Doug had the baby before they arrived at the commune, that changes everything.

In the chapel, Elizabeth asks, what is she doing? Her parents finally told her the truth about Reiko’s fall, and how they tried to make her forget what she’d done. The truth is supposed to set her free; why does it feel like a stone around her neck? But it’s not the truth that’s the problem; it’s her and the choices she’s made. She’s just tearing her life down, piece by piece, brick by brick. She lost Finn and helped Nikolas keep a pregnant woman captive because she thought she was keeping everybody else from getting hurt. But now that cop is dead, and they know Esme can’t be the killer. This isn’t her. She’s a good person, isn’t she?… Isn’t she?

Spencer says, no matter what Uncle Victor wants, he can’t be around Nikolas, so steer clear of him. He has his own money now. He’s going to get his own place, preferably as far away from Nikolas and here as possible. Nikolas says he’s so sorry he disappointed Spencer again, and Spencer says, there really is no bottom for Nikolas to hit, is there? He feels sorry for Nikolas, but there’s one good thing about this, and it’s that he’s more determined than ever to be a better man than Nikolas. Nikolas says, he will be. Spencer’s already his own man. He’s so proud of him. Spencer says, stop, and Nikolas says he knows they’re done… Nikolas’s phone rings, and he looks at it but doesn’t answer. He tells Spencer, just know that he loves him and believes in him. Spencer walks out, and Nikolas answers the phone. Elizabeth says she just had it out with Ava, and he asks, how did it go? She says she told Ava there was no baby; let Ava believe she had a miscarriage. Anyway, it’s done. No more fake baby. Now she just has to fix the million other mistakes she’s made. He says he knows this is hard, but they’ve made their choices, and there’s no going back.

Nina runs into Ava, and says she was just about to call and check in, after what Ava told her about Elizabeth and Nikolas. Ava says, coincidentally, she just ran into Elizabeth, and Nina asks if she let Elizabeth have it. Ava says, she started to, then Elizabeth told her that she lost the baby. Nina says she hates them for what they did to Ava, but still… Ava says she knows. As much as she wants to let Nikolas have it – and she really does want to let him have it – can she really go after him when he just lost a child?

Mac says he’s going to head out, and Cody says, him too, after he takes a shower. Don’t worry. Mac says, about? and Cody says he won’t keep bugging Mac. In fact, he’ll delete Mac’s number right now. Mac tells him, no; keep it. Feel free to use it if he’s ever in a jam. It’s his job. Protect and serve. Cody says, see you later, Chief, and Mac leaves.

Josslyn remembers Dex asking if she’s sorry they kissed, and saying, him neither. She flashes back to telling Dex, try being honest, and Dex saying, she wants honest? then kissing her. She sits on the sofa, and screams into a pillow, then sighs.

Drew tells Carly, Harmony had Willow when she arrived in Colorado, and Denise thought Harmony was running from something or someone. What if Harmony stole Willow from her parents? Carly asks if he thinks Harmony kidnapped Willow, and he says, if Denise is telling the truth, it sounds like Harmony thought someone was trying to track her down. Carly asks where that leaves them, and taking her hand, Drew says, either way, they know the story about Joan’s OD is a lie. Which means it’s possible someone is out there wondering what happened to their little girl.

Tomorrow, Maxie says, fate brought her and Austin together, and he says, they’re not meant to be; Dante has some news for Chase that he doesn’t think can wait; and Michael and Willow have something to tell Wiley.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Carly finds Drew at the pool and says she heard he was there. He says she seems to be in a better mood, and she says, things are finally starting to come together. He says, nothing like being released from a dungeon after a couple of years, and she says, it’s not quite that, but he says, it’s her version. It’s been a rough couple of years. She says, it has, and now there are blue skies ahead for Nina and Willow, Nina is finally in the rearview, and she knows Nina finally can’t do harm to this family anymore. Michael and Willow come in, and Drew says, it is such a relief to find out Willow isn’t Nina’s daughter.

At the neatest stables I’ve ever seen – I mean, like you could live in them – Leo looks at a white horse and says he loves him. Olivia tells Ned that Leo loves his new present. She knows getting horses, cars, and stock options for your birthday might be normal for Ned, but this girl knows how lucky they are. He says he’s the lucky one; he has her and Leo. She says, it turns out equestrian therapy is all its cracked up to be, and Leo pets the horse. Ned says he knows it’s supposed to help kids on the autism spectrum develop emotional bonds, and sensory skills like balance, but this looks more like a kid loving getting a horse. She asks if he’s getting all misty on her, and he asks if she’d believe him if he said no. She says, not for a minute, and suggests she and Leo go up to the house and get the horse some food. I wonder if she’s going to make it a sandwich, and Leo says, apples or carrots? She says, dealer’s choice, and they leave. Ned tells the horse, all right, mister. I’m trusting you to look out for my son, and since he clearly already loves you, welcome to the family. He guesses they’ll have to give the horse a name, and Valentin walks in, saying, he’s always been partial to comet. Comes around once a decade. Much like the offer he’s presenting Ned.

Terry gets a text from Chet, saying: Just landed. She sees TJ, and says, she thought he requested the whole week off work. He says he did. He had a family situation, but it’s been handled. She asks if everything is okay, and he says he couldn’t begin to tell her.

Curtis comes in with Marshall and Stella, and Portia says, he’s home. He says, yeah. They’re home.

At Shadybrook, Laura says, Elizabeth looks wonderful, and Elizabeth says, compared to what? Laura says, compared to yesterday. She looks more rested than she has in months. Elizabeth says she thinks it’s the first good night’s sleep she’s had since… It’s been more than months. She thanks Laura for helping her settle in, and Laura says, that’s what family does. Doc is going over some details with Elizabeth’s doctor. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a few days for the sleeping pills to get out of her system. Elizabeth says she figured, and Laura says, so don’t be alarmed if she can’t sleep and goes through… Elizabeth says, withdrawals? Laura says, it will only last for a few days, and Elizabeth says, it’s funny… Not funny, but irritating. She’s been a nurse for how long, and she didn’t see this coming. If she’d been her own patient, she would have caught this a lot sooner, but when it’s you.. Laura says, you’re too close to it. Elizabeth says she sees it now, and if it’s a choice between sleepless nights and hurting the people she loves… Finn walks in with flowers.

Portia hugs Curtis, saying, she was on her way to work, and she was afraid she was going to miss him. She tells Marshall that she’s so glad he’s okay. She heard he went through quite an ordeal. How is he feeling? He says he feels like he’s had a lifetime full of doctors in the last few days, and Stella says, maybe Portia wasn’t asking him as a doctor, but as the woman who loves his son. Marshall says, his bad. He guesses he’s still a bit on edge. He appreciates her concern though. She says, good. Because he’s going to have to get used to it. She made up the spare bedroom for him; make himself at home. Stella suggests Marshall get freshened up. He’s been in those clothes for days. Marshall says, he knows he promised Curtis answers, but Curtis says, they have time for that, and tells him to get settled first. Marshall leaves with Stella, and Portia says she’s so glad Curtis found his father. When he told her about the robbery, even though it had already happened, it’s scary. But all of them are okay, and that’s all that matters. Curtis saved the day. He says he doesn’t feel like much of a hero, and she asks, why not? He says, because if he hadn’t broken his father’s trust, he never would have put Marshall in danger in the first place.

Finn asks how Elizabeth is feeling, and she says, a little better. He says he thought he’d find a florist on the way over, but he only found a little convenient store. She takes the flowers – which are pretty damn nice for being from a deli and even wrapped in a brown paper cone – and he wonders if she hates them, but she says she doesn’t. She is a little confused. She asked him not to visit her. He says he heard her, but didn’t want her thinking he’d abandoned her, and didn’t want to hurt her. She says, but he is hurting her, more than he realizes.

Valentin tells Ned that he heard Leo got a new horse. Mind if he takes a gander? Ned says, sure, and Valentin says, he’s a good looking animal. When he and Charlotte were living here, they very much enjoyed riding in the area. Ned says, Charlotte is always welcome, and Valentin says, unfortunately, Charlotte is still away at boarding school. Ned is surprised she has school in the summer, and Valentin says, apparently. She’s as independent as her father. He holds out a box, and says he wanted to offer Ned this. He opens the box, and Ned says, equestrian gear, taking it from him. Valentin says, some of Charlotte’s helmets, riding crops and the like. Too small for her, but maybe Leo will enjoy them. Ned says, it’s very thoughtful of Valentin, but they both know that’s not why he stopped by. So what does he want? Valentin says, Ned knows what he wants. He wants to work together at ELQ before Drew and Michael push Ned out.

Carly says she didn’t know Michael and Willow were stopping by, and Willow says, Wiley has a swimming lesson at the club, and Michael says, he convinced Willow that they could step away for a little relaxation. She’s graduating next week. Carly says she’s so proud of Willow; she’s been working so hard. Willow says, that must be why she’s so exhausted, and Drew asks if he can steal Michael for a second about some ELQ stuff. Carly asks if this means they’re reconsidering her offer to help, but Michael says, no, it doesn’t, and steps away with Drew. Carly and Willow sit, and Carly says, she knows Willow has been working and studying, but she thinks Wiley’s custody hearing is what has her so exhausted. Willow says, that was so insane, and so unnecessary. They said, no, and Nina should have respected that. Honestly, she’s never been as angry with someone as she is with Nina right now. Carly flashes back to reading the DNA results, and saying, it’s true; Nina is Willow’s mother. Carly tells Willow, what’s important is, she gets to choose who’s in Wiley’s life; Nina doesn’t. Don’t let her live in your mind rent free. Willow tells her, easier said than done, but there is one good thing to come out of this. Dealing with Nina helped her come to a big decision. Carly asks, about what? and Willow says, finding the identity of her biological mother.

Curtis tells Portia, his father was in that hospital, lying unconscious because that street trash slashed him with a knife. He thought he was going to lose his father all over again. She says, but he didn’t, and he says he’s had a lot of time to think. He keeps going over the last few months in his head. Here’s a man who was just trying to make things right with him, his son, and he was so angry, he just pushed Marshall away. He led Marshall to believe that he was letting him in, only to go digging through his closet for whatever skeletons he might find. Marshall left Port Charles because he felt like there was no place for him; like he and Marshall would never have a relationship, because Curtis didn’t trust him. She asks if Marshall gave Curtis reasons to trust him. Trust is earned. You’ve got to be there; be present. For whatever reason, Marshall wasn’t there for him, and Curtis asked for an explanation, and Marshall didn’t give him one. So he has every right to be frustrated. He says this coming from the woman who made the guest bedroom for Marshall, and she says, Marshall is still Curtis’s father, and Curtis is still Marshall’s son, and she cares about the both of them. As far ask Curtis blaming himself, he didn’t send Marshall packing or put him in harm’s way. Nothing. Curtis says he still couldn’t leave well enough alone, even when Marshall asked him to. She says she knows he thinks Marshall is selfish, just as she knows Marshall has his reasons, his regrets. She truly believes once they air it all out, the truth, like most truths, lies somewhere in-between. Curtis looks at the prescription bottle, and says, she’s probably right.

TJ tells Terry, there’s a lot going on with his family; a lot. He could use the distraction, and he’d be happy to go on the rotation if the hospital needs an extra set of hands. Terry says, always, but they need steady one. If he’s going through something heavy, he could be liability to the patients, and they have to come first. He says he can’t argue with that, and she tells him, that being said, there might be a surgery or two he could observe, if he doesn’t mind being hands-off and just learning. He says, it sounds awesome, and thanks her. She tells him, scrub in, and he leaves. She looks at a picture of Chet on her phone and sighs.

Finn asks Elizabeth to forgive him. He just wanted to see her. She says she’s scared. She’s scared she’s going to hurt someone the way she hurt Chase. What if next time it’s one of her boys or Violet? Laura says, everyone knows Elizabeth would never intentionally hurt anyone. It was a side effect of those pills, and she’s not taking them anymore. Elizabeth says, the doctors called it a dissociative fugue, and Finn says he’s heard of it. She says, in her case, it was caused by the pills. That’s how it happened biologically. Psychologically – why she did what she did – they still haven’t figured that out yet. He says, that’s okay. She just got here; there’s time. She says, something is broken in her, and she needs to fix it, and he says, of course (🍷). If there’s anything he can do to help, he’ll do it. She says she thinks she convinced herself that she was ready to move on when she really wasn’t, and he says, if he rushed her in any way… She says, no. That’s not the problem. He asks, what is their problem? and she says, when he’s with her, he convinces her everything’s okay. Like it’s all going to be all right. But if he keeps coming around, she’s going to start believing it, and she’ll never face what’s really wrong.

Carly asks what it was about the custody hearing with Nina that influenced Willow’s decision, and Willow says, in that courtroom, she saw firsthand that biology doesn’t make a family. Nina, the blood relative, prioritized her own needs over Willow’s son’s. Harmony told Alexis that her birth mother disappeared from a commune and left her behind. Carly asks if she believes that, and Willow says she thinks it’s likely. Her parents spent a lot of time in various communes before Dawn of Day. They met some very damaged people. The chances are good that her birth mother wasn’t concerned about what was right for her child, any more than Nina was concerned about what’s right for Wiley.

Drew tells Michael, things were still pretty tense between him and Ned this morning. He doesn’t think they’re any closer to getting Ned on board with the Aurora/ELQ merger. Michael says he’s not surprised. It’s a matter of pride, because Valentin made a hostile takeover on Ned’s watch. As much as he doesn’t want to ignore Ned’s concerns, now’s not the time to back off. Drew says he doesn’t disagree, but Ned insists he doesn’t want the COO role, but he’s not suggesting another job he’d be okay with. Michael says, because he only wants one job – CEO. And from where Michael stands, it would be a mistake to give it to him.

Valentin says he made Ned an offer a few days ago, and he’s heard nothing; why is that? Ned says he’s been focusing on his family, and Valentin asks, isn’t ELQ one and the same with his family? Ned says, once upon a  time maybe, and Valentin says, but not anymore? Ned says he’s still living with the consequences of putting the company over family, and Valentin says, Ned means his tenure as CEO, but Ned says, no. He means Brook is still dealing with the consequences of her contract with Linc Brown, which Valentin exploited to take over the company. Valentin says he thinks Ned needs to stop looking at him as the problem, and remember he’s the one who got Brook out of that contract. Ned says, for a price, and Valentin says, everything has a price. The question is, what is Ned’s? Ned says, to betray his family? Valentin couldn’t afford it. Valentin says, from where he’s standing, Ned is the one being betrayed.

Elizabeth says, she knows Finn drove all this way, but he says, it’s okay. He should go. Laura says she’ll walk him out, and he tells Elizabeth, he’d do anything for her. So if she wants him to stay away, he’ll do that, but he’s not giving up on them. Someday when she’s ready, he’ll be there. He leaves with Laura, and in the hallway, he says, he’s been there every step of the way with Elizabeth, and now it seems like it’s been all his fault. She says, absolutely not, but he says, his presence made it worse. Laura says, she didn’t say that; she didn’t mean that. He says he knows, but he hates this, and she says, of course (🍷) he does. He asks why Laura thinks Elizabeth allowed her to visit, and Laura says, maybe because she’s been where Elizabeth is. She had issues of her own with mental illness about 20 years ago, and she lashed out at people; Luke, Scotty, even her own mother. She was dealing with a repressed memory, and even though she loved these people very much, just seeing them subconsciously triggered her drama. He says he’s sorry she went through that, but she wasn’t necessarily dealing with grief. She says, it was a lot of things, but not that, and he asks if she thinks the root of Elizabeth’s problem is something other than losing her husband.

Valentin says, Michael and Drew are going to put Ned on the sidelines, giving him a meaningless title and menial responsibilities. What about Leo? Ned asks if Valentin is concerned that they’re going to give Leo an inferior position at ELQ too, but Valentin says, the only shares Leo is in line for are Ned’s. Ned has to be in a position financially to protect Leo and Olivia. Ned says, in case Valentin hasn’t noticed, they’re not exactly paupers. He thinks they’ll be just fine, whoever leads ELQ in the future. Valentin says, of course (🍷), but it’s not just the money. It’s the power, and the respect, and if Ned votes to keep Valentin in place, he’ll guarantee Ned a suitable role at ELQ. Ned says, what role is that? and Valentin says, name it. Ned says, CEO, and Valentin says, no. They both know, however Ned votes, that role is filled. Ned says, then why vote for Valentin? and Valentin says, he maintains they can reach a mutually beneficial arrangement, one where they both win. Ned says, he doesn’t want the COO, and Valentin says, then get creative. Come up with a role where they’re practically equal. Ned says, that would mean Valentin giving up a significant chunk of his power. Why? What’s in for him? Valentin says, in case Ned hasn’t noticed, he’s being squeezed out. And 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Doesn’t Ned agree? Olivia comes back with Leo, and asks, what’s going on here?

Michael tells Drew, Ned is throwing a tantrum because he’s not getting what he wants. Is that who they want in charge? Drew says, Ned needs to be respected, the same way he’s respecting Michael in regard to Sonny. He wasn’t thrilled that Michael was going to use ELQ to bring Sonny down, but Michael promised to leave ELQ out of it, so he’ll step aside. Michael says he can afford to take things slower now that Wiley’s custody is secured. Drew asks why he doesn’t let it go entirely, and Michael says, why should he, if Sonny’s priority is Nina, protecting her and supporting her? He doesn’t care about the harm she’s done, or what it’s cost his own family. There’s no coming back from that. Drew says, you know who you sound like? and Michael tells him, don’t say Sonny. Drew says, he’s not going to say it, but Michael does. He can practically hear, you’re dead to me. Michael says, Sonny’s not dead to him yet. He has to crush him first. And he wants Sonny to know it was him. After that, he can get around to dying.

Portia asks, what’s that? and Curtis says, the medication that Marshall had with him. Portia asks if he wants her to look at it. She can tell him what it’s for, but he says he thinks he’s violated Marshall’s privacy enough. It’s his father’s job to tell his own story. Stella comes in, and says, Curtis’s father is washing up now. He wouldn’t even let her wait outside the door, so she guesses his pride is still intact. Portia says she better get going, but Stella says, before Portia leaves, she owes Portia an apology. When Marshall first came back in their lives, she wasn’t honest with Portia. In trying to keep her promises to Marshall and her sister, she gave Portia the runaround. She supposes that’s another way of saying she outright lied, and she’s not a person who likes to do that. Portia says, Stella doesn’t owe her an apology. Stella said she had promises to keep, and it wasn’t her story to tell; it was Marshall’s. And she’s not going to blame Stella for making a choice to protect her family. Now why doesn’t she give them some space? Portia tells Curtis to let her know if he needs anything. She loves him. He says he loves her too, and Portia leaves. Stella says, the patience of a saint, that one, and Curtis says, he got lucky, and she really stepped up for the family. Stella says, so when is he going to make Portia an official part of it?

Willow tells Carly, the way Nina weaponized Michael’s past. The extremes she was willing to go to, to win. It was like a warning. Willow shouldn’t go looking for someone who might be indifferent, even harmful, to her needs, as Nina was to Wiley’s. Carly asks if she’s sure, and Willow says she is. Between Wiley and Michael and the Quartermaines, and of course (🍷) Carly, she has all the family she needs. She sees Carly tearing up, and says she didn’t mean to make Carly cry. Carly takes Willow’s hand, and says she just appreciates being appreciated. And for what it’s worth (🍷), she thinks Willow is making the right decision.

Drew says, he just doesn’t want Michael doing something he’s going to end up regretting, but Michael says he won’t regret it. It’s already in the works. Drew says, what is? and Michael tells him, don’t worry; it doesn’t involve ELQ. Drew is in the clear. Drew says, even so… and Michael says, instead of focusing on his differences with his father, why don’t they focus on increasing Aurora’s stocks, so when they merge the companies, they’re on more equal footing? Drew says, Michael is right, and so far, it’s been more difficult than they thought.

Ned tells Olivia that Valentin was dropping off some of Charlotte’s old riding gear for Leo. Olivia says, what a lovely gesture, whatever Valentin’s motives are. Leo asks if he can see, and Ned says, go ahead. Leo runs to the box, and Valentin says, if you ask him, Leo is going to be one heck of a horseman. Olivia asks Leo what he says, and Leo thanks Valentin. Valentin says, you’re welcome; happy trails. He should get going. If there’s anything else Ned needs, let him know. He tells Olivia, arrivederci, and she says, ciao. He leaves, and Olivia tells Leo to have Cook give him some sugar cubes for the horse. Leo runs off, and Ned says, Olivia seems to be getting along with Valentin. She says, he was always great with Bailey, and he’s been exceptionally kind to Leo. Sue her, but it’s kind of hard to stay mad at someone like that. Why? He tells her, just saying. She’s right. It’s some nice stuff Valentin dropped off. She says, good will gestures aside, she’d sleep with one eye open with that guy around. Even on his best day, he’s up to something.

Laura says, Finn knows better than anyone what grief can do to a person, and he says, he does. She says she knows he wants to be there for Elizabeth, and he will be, eventually. He says, just not in the same room, and she says, for now, no. He really has to respect Elizabeth’s request for space from him. He says, okay, and leaves.

Curtis wonders if Stella is really asking if he’s going to propose to Portia now, after everything that’s happened. She says, it’s during troubling times that people prove themselves. And Portia has shown time and time again that she’s a true member of this family. He says he appreciates that she’s grown to care for Portia, and she says, he knows how rare it is for her to think anyone is good enough for him. He says he’s aware. It’s just that he and Portia have only been together a little over a year. She says, long enough to buy this house. Sounds like a commitment to her. He says, this is an investment… to a commitment, and she tells him, all she’s saying is that if you find someone who makes you happier than anything else in this, don’t waste time, because it won’t wait for you. She learned that the hard way; so did his father. Curtis says, it’s just that the divorce between him and Jordan is still fresh, and Stella gets troubled look on her face. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, she’s fine. She guesses the last few days is catching up with her; that’s all. Marshall comes in, and Curtis asks how he’s feeling. Marshall says, better, and thanks Curtis. He says, also a bit terrified, and Curtis says, about what? Marshall says, whatever happens next. It’s time to give Curtis the answers he’s been looking for.

Valentin joins Drew and Michael, and says, lovely day, isn’t it? Drew says, he’s awfully chipper for a man who’s about to be voted out, but Valentin says, nothing’s set in stone. And he’s pretty sure if he doesn’t win the round, he can still win the match.

Marshall says, before they get into all this, he needs to clear Curtis’s mother Irene of any blame. The lie, telling Curtis and his brother that Marshall had passed away, wasn’t something she came up with after he was gone. He made that decision, and pressured her to go along with it. After what happened… he felt it was for the best. Curtis says, after Marshall was arrested, and Marshall says, yeah. Curtis might recall he served in Vietnam before Curtis was born. When he came back to the world, he was disillusioned about a lot of things. He could hardly pick up his clarinet. He needed a purpose, and he found it in protests. First, it was just the war, then civil rights, and then no nukes. Any injustice anywhere, he was there. Not just to make the world a better place, because that was part of it, but he needed to give himself purpose, and in doing that, he found music again, but Curtis’s mother thought he was pushing himself too much, and not getting enough sleep. That’s why he was having these paranoid thoughts. Curtis asks, paranoid how? and Marshall says he was convinced they were being watched.

Finn comes out of the hospital elevator, and Terry asks if he saw Biz. How is she doing? He says he saw Elizabeth. As to how she’s doing, she wouldn’t tell him.

Laura suggests Elizabeth put the flowers in her room to add a little color; it can be so dull in there. Elizabeth says, it’s better than a cell. Part of her is still afraid she’s going to be arrested, or sued, or both, but Laura tells her, Chase made it clear he isn’t pressing charges. Elizabeth says, what about the art studio? She torched a building in her sleep. Laura says, they don’t know that yet. Elizabeth doesn’t remember, and there’s no evidence linking her to it. Elizabeth says, but what if she’s charged? and Laura says, the sleeping pills had been in Elizabeth’s body for almost a year before the incidents starting happening, right? What if there’s something more going on here? Elizabeth says, Laura doesn’t think the sleeping pills were the cause? but Laura says, no. The sleeping pills were definitely the why; they made her sleepwalk and disassociate. It’s the when. Elizabeth had been taking them for almost a year before the sleepwalking incidents started happening. So she was wondering if maybe anything more recently happened to trigger the behavior in Elizabeth. Has she brought up at all in any of her sessions? Elizabeth says she thinks she needs to lie down, and Laura tells her to get the rest she needs. She’ll come back soon. Elizabeth thanks her for coming, and walks out, leaving the flowers.

Terry says, Elizabeth asked Finn to leave? and he says, she implied he was making it worse. That he makes her feel like things are really okay when they’re not, so she can’t do the work she needs to. He wants to respect her wishes, but he cares about her and it’s hard. Terry says she knows he loves Elizabeth, but she also knows what it’s like not to be able to help someone you care about. But trust her, they’ll find their way back to each other, when Elizabeth works through her grief. He says he thinks it might be more than grief. He thinks Elizabeth might be repressing something else. She says, such as? and he says, you tell me. Terry has known her the longest. She says, other than losing Franco? They already discussed Elizabeth’s falling out with her parents. Has anyone reached out to Carolyn and Jeff to let them know what’s going on with Elizabeth? He says he doesn’t know, but does she think it’s time someone did?

Olivia says she knows Ned is upset about this argument with Michael and Drew, but the Quartermaines are always squabbling about ELQ, and they always work it out. He says, that was back when grandfather ruled with an iron fist, or when his mother and AJ served as a common enemy. This time, he’s the one on the outside. She says, if he’s truly worried about being put out to pasture, go to Michael and Drew; make  deal. It’s what he’s best at. This doesn’t have to be a blood feud. He says he guesses she’s right, and she puts her head on his shoulder, saying, she always is.

Drew says, they’ve got no intention of losing the round or the match, and Valentin says, of course (🍷) they don’t. No one intends to lose, but somebody has to. Maybe it will be them. Michael says, back at him, and Valentin says, that’s the spirit. Drew says, let’s go, and Michael and Drew jet.

Carly asks what that was about, and Drew says, posturing, but Michael says he thinks it’s more than that. His gut says Valentin is planning something before the shareholders vote. Carly says, like what? and Michael says he doesn’t know, but it’s all he can think about, which is probably Valentin’s plan. So much for relaxation. Willow says, same here. All this talk about Nina makes her wish they’d stayed to watch Wiley’s swim class. Michael says, they can probably catch the end of it, and Willow says, sounds perfect. They leave, and Drew sits down. He asks if Willow is okay; she seems off. Carly says, Nina got into her head; that’s all. Drew says, she can kick her right back out, because Nina’s out of Wiley’s life, and she’s not Willow’s mother; she’s nobody to any of you. Carly did the right thing not looping Willow in. Willow is lucky to have Carly as a friend. Carly says she’s not that great of a friend, but Drew says she helped him settle back in. She offered to buy Aurora stock to drive up the price. She says, then let her be his friend. Let her help him save ELQ from Valentin.

At the hospital, Portia says she saw TJ was observing today. She thought he’d be home with Curtis and his grandfather. He says he wanted to more than anything, but the way he sees it, Marshall promised Uncle Curtis answers, and Uncle Curtis has been waiting a lifetime for those answers. She says she hopes he’s right, and he says, and whatever explanation Marshall gives helps heal the emptiness and uncertainty Uncle Curtis has lived with all these years. Still, he has to wonder if there’s anything Marshall can say to help Curtis understand why he disappeared.

Curtis says, Marshall doesn’t sound entirely paranoid to him. They know the government keeps tabs on protestors and people they deem instigators. Stella says, it’s more complicated than that, and Marshall says, when Curtis was three years old, he went to another protest. There, the police were involved. Some people got arrested, and he had an episode. Curtis says, when he was resisting arrest? but Marshall says, that’s just it. He wasn’t resisting arrest; at least not intentionally. Anyway they dropped Marshall off at a psychiatric ward. There, they put him under observation for 72 hours. That’s when he was diagnosed. Curtis says, with what? and Marshall says, schizophrenia.

Tomorrow, Stella says, now is not the time to turn away; Brad tells Britt, welcome to her intervention; Carly says she can help Drew whether he likes it or not; and Sonny thinks he knows who’s behind both.

A thousand apologies, but due to circumstances beyond my control, my whole day has been running late, so I’m postponing Below Deck Sailing Yacht until tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll be seeing the sun come up, and like Captain Glenn, I need my beauty rest. So see you with soap and Deck tomorrow. Until then, stay safe, stay not quitting when things get tough, and stay not letting anyone you’ve got beef with live in your mind rent free.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

So here’s what happened, I’m guessing just on the east coast. When I turned on GH, it was breaking news, but actually relevant to my area – a shooting in Jersey City. Okay. I get them breaking in for that, especially since it was ongoing and they hadn’t apprehended or killed the suspects at that point in time. Nevertheless, because it’s my job – albeit a volunteer one that I created for myself – I went on the hunt. Here you go.

Scotty asks Elizabeth if Andre said how long it’s going to take, but she says, no. He wonders if they’re just going to sit around, staring at the clock, and asks Cameron how long it took Shiloh and Cabot to scramble Franco’s brain. Cameron says he guesses he was too scared to notice.

Andre tells Franco/Drew that he’s an incredibly brave man. If this works, it’s the last time he’ll know himself. Andre will do his best to make sure the sacrifice isn’t in vain. The program is almost ready.

Peter runs into the hospital. Laura says she needs a word with him, and he asks if it can wait. She says it can’t. It’s city business, and it’s urgent.

At the MetroCourt, Anna hugs Griff. She’s glad to see him, but sorry for the circumstances. She knows he and Lucas were friends. They sit, and she asks how he is. He says, glad to have her back in town. She says she was gone too long, and he says he bets Finn is thrilled. She says Finn had a bit of a surprise for her. It turns out he has a daughter with Hayden. He says, what?! and she says she reacted that way too. He just found out about her; her name’s Violet. He asks how Finn is taking it, and she says, it’s hard being thrust into the role of a father. Griff says he remembers, and she says, that’s right. The same thing happened to him with Charlotte.

Nina holds out her hand to Ava, and asks if Ava will take down the Cassadine boys with her. Ava says, no thanks. She has zero interest in partnering with Nina. Nina asks, why not? and Ava says Nina visited her at Shadybrook because she wanted to get her hands on the portrait. She’s no better than Valentin or Nikolas. Nina says she’s wrong. She’s on Ava’s side, and wants Ava on hers.

Valentin continues to ring Jax’s doorbell, and Jax tells Nikolas to get out of there. He invites Valentin in, and ask what he wants. Valentin says, closure. Things got heated between them at the MetroCourt. Jax admits he wasn’t very gentlemanly, but thinks he got his message across. Valentin says, partly, but if Jax is trying to take his inheritance, he’ll fight back hard. Or they can pool their resources, and they both win.

Nina says when she saw Ava at Shadybrook, Ava was shattered. It broke her heart. Ava asks what she expected after Nikolas said those cruel things to her. Kiki is in hell because of her. Nina asks if Ava wants to let him get away with that, and Ava says, of course (🍷) not. Nina says Nikolas preyed on her vulnerabilities; let’s make him pay. Ava asks why she should trust Nina. How does she know Nina isn’t Valentin’s emissary, and going to prey on her vulnerable state? Nina says she has no interest in helping Valentin. Ava says Nina is in love with Valentin. She probably sprinted home to tell him about the ring, and how Nikolas is alive and well. Nina says Valentin has no idea that the man who broke into Ava’s gallery is Nikolas. Ava tells her to warn him, so he can swoon over her more than he already does. Nina says Ava is right. Valentin loves her and would do anything for her; even fabricate a daughter that didn’t exist. He was behind Sasha’s lies and orchestrated the whole thing. She’s known for months, and it’s her chance to turn the tables.

Valentin tells Jax, the more they fight each other, the more they stand to lose. They’d be better off joining forces to find Helena’s portrait. Isn’t it what they both want? Jax says, so Valentin wants a truce and a collaborator, and Valentin says he does. Jax laughs and says, that’s never going to happen. Valentin says he knows Jax had someone break into Ava’s gallery. Jax feigns ignorance, and Valentin sees the garbage bags full of Nikolas’s clothes. He asks if Jax has a new roommate, and Jax says his daughter is coming to stay with him. Valentin says, daughters are the best; he has one of those. He compliments Jax on his home, and asks if Jax minds if he looks at the sunset. Nina has been raving about the view. Valentin goes out on the terrace, and Jax follows, saying, he’s surprised Nina noticed. She was pretty upset after that debacle of a wedding. Valentin says they’re fixing that soon, and Jax asks if Valentin thinks he’ll make it through the ceremony this time.

Griff tells Anna not to worry. The Charlotte thing isn’t a trigger for him anymore, but he can still remember the feeling of surprise fatherhood; how full you feel in your heart. He asks how Finn is handling it, and Anna says, it’s day by day, but they’re starting a lovely connection. He says, speaking of which, have she and Peter grown closer? She says they’re getting there. He and Maxie came for Thanksgiving. They’re together. Griff says a lot has changed since he left. She says especially Peter, but she thinks he still struggles with being Faison’s son. As much as she tells him that he’s not his father, he can’t allow himself to be happy. She asks how Griff is getting on, and he says work keeps him busy. He still has his faith. The other parts will fall into place when the time is right. Maxie asks if she’s interrupting, and Anna says, of course (🍷) not. Maxie thanks Griff for coming for Lucas. He says he wishes he could have done more in the short time he’s there; he’s leaving Port Charles tonight.

Elizabeth tells Scotty, the last time Franco did the memory transfer, it seemed like forever before he opened his eyes, and when he did, he had no idea who she was. He called her ma’am. Scotty says, that must have been brutal, and she says, this whole ordeal has been brutal. The good news is, it’s about to end. Cameron understands she’s trying to be hopeful for Franco, but he also knows she’s scared. Scotty says they’re all scared. Elizabeth thinks it’s possible to be both at the same time.

Peter tells Laura that he doesn’t have time. He’s there on important Invader business. She says, it’s about The Invader. She sent him an email, and he never replied. He asks, what’s going on? and she says, prisoner overcrowding at Pentenville. They’re considering early release of several prisoners. Her constituents are worried, and there’s been no coverage in The Invader. She expected better from him.

Andre tells Franco, the procedure is mostly out of his hands, but he’s going to work like hell to make sure he comes back as he really is. Suspicious dude comes in, and points a gun at Andre.

Ava says she thought the Valentin/Nina love story was one for the ages, but Nina says, not all love stories end in hearts and flowers. She’s hoping Ava keeps the information she’s giving her between them. Ava asks why should she? and Nina says she’s putting a lot on the line trying to prove herself to Ava. Ava says she wouldn’t worry. Even if she told Valentin, he wouldn’t believe her. Nina says if Ava gives Valentin even a little reason to distrust her, he’ll figure out her plan. Ava asks, who else knows?and Nina says, Jax. Ava says, and he wants the portrait. If Nina wants her help, she’ll have to enlighten Ava. Why do Jax, Valentin, and Nikolas want the portrait? And is Laura next? Maybe she’s just pretending to be Ava’s friend; Nikolas is her son. Nina is sure Laura doesn’t know Nikolas is alive, and if she’s looking for the portrait, it’s for Spencer’s sake. Ava asks why Nina is looking for the portrait.

Jax asks if Valentin is surprised he was invited to the wedding, and Valentin says, no. He’s Nina’s boss, and was invited to the first one. Why wouldn’t he be invited to the second one? Jax says he’s looking forward to it. Almost as much as he’s looking forward to Valentin getting to the point of why he’s there. Valentin says, Spencer. He’s in the dark, right? He’s unaware of the whole mad dash for Helena’s portrait and the codicil. He’s just living the life of the American teenager abroad. Jax says, lucky him, and Valentin wonders how Jax got dragged in. Why is he so desperate to get his hands on Helena’s portrait?  If it’s not for Spencer’s sake, then whose?

Maxie tells Griff, that’s so soon. Anna asks Maxie if she and Griff can finish their conversation, and Maxie asks Griff to check in with her before he goes, leaving them to talk. Anna says she was hoping Griff would have a chance to meet Violet, but he says he’s sorry. The losses in Port Charles are still too fresh. She understands, and he hopes he can at least take her to dinner tonight. She says she’ll have to cancel her phlebotomy, and he says her health is more important. He promises to do better at staying in touch. She says getting emails from him is the highlight of her day. He’s doing such great work; for others, and for himself. Duke would be proud of Griff. She is. She tells him keep it up, and he tells her to take care of herself. They exchange I love yous and hug. Anna tells him not to be a stranger.

When Anna leaves, Maxie asks Griff if everything is okay with her, but Griff says they were just catching up. She says she wouldn’t mind some catching up herself, and he says he’d like that. He asks if she and Peter are official, and she says, that’s one way to put it. As of today, they’re officially living in sin.

Peter gives Laura his full assurance that the overcrowding issue will get full coverage in The Invader. She says she’s meeting with community groups and prison officials tonight and tomorrow. He tells her to email the details to him, and text him with updates. He gets in the elevator, and she tells him to at least get it in tomorrow’s website.

Elizabeth reminds Cameron of his playoff game against Sawyer. Their team was down by five goals. She asks if he was scared he was going to lose, and he says, for a while, it looked really bad, but they got more intense and focused, and in the end, they won. She says because they banded together, and turned the game around. She says that’s what they’re doing there. She has faith that between their hope, and Andre’s talents, this procedure will work. Cameron says, what about Scotty? He’s a lawyer. He sees things the way they are, not the way he wants them to be. What does he think is going to happen to Franco once he gets in the operating room?

Andre struggles with suspicious dude, who is now a gunman. The gunman drops his gun, and Andre jumps on him. Andre lands some good punches, and they continue to struggle as the procedure keeps going.

Jax asks if Valentin doesn’t think he has his own reason to want him to fall, and Valentin says, sure, but he also knows Jax isn’t acting alone. Who’s in Jax’s corner? Valentin thinks it’s Laura, acting on Spencer’s behalf. Jax asks if Valentin’s fishing expedition is going to take much longer, and Valentin says whatever they’re paying, he can top it. Jax says, it’s not about the money, and Valentin asks if there’s anything he can do to make peace between them. Jax says, no, and Valentin says he can only assume Jax is moving him out of the way so he can have Nina all to himself.

Nina tells Ava that she’s not interested in that Godforsaken portrait. They’re after the codicil that Helena hid inside. Ava says they’re finally getting somewhere. What codicil? Nina says Valentin’s father left a codicil to his will. It’s supposed to disinherit Valentin, and leave everything to Spencer and Nikolas, and it’s supposed to be hidden in Helena’s portrait. Ava says, that explains a lot, and Nina says, Valentin and Nikolas really want it, but if she and Ava get it, they’ll have a lot of leverage. Ava asks what Nina means by we; she hasn’t agreed to work with Nina. Nina is in love with Valentin, which clouds her judgement. Nina says she’s clear on this; Valentin and Nikolas don’t deserve it. If anyone deserves it, it’s Spencer. Or doesn’t Ava want to help Spencer anymore? She withdrew her statement, so Spencer’s wrongful death suit fell apart. She’s sorry, but Ava didn’t step up. Ava says it’s a mistake she deeply regrets. Spencer should have had peace after losing his father. Nina says, but he didn’t lose his father. Nikolas is alive and wants the portrait. Does Ava want to give it to him? Does she want to give it to Valentin, or does she want what’s behind door number three?

Maxie tells Griff that she and Peter are living together. He congratulates her, saying, they’ve made quite a U-turn. She says, a little of Griff rubbed off on her. All that talk about forgiveness, redemption, not judging, and not casting the first stone. It turns out he was right. He asks how she and Peter got together, and she says they found a connection; first friendship, then more. And it’s not because Peter is Nathan’s half-brother or James’s uncle. They connected on a level she didn’t think she could still reach after Nathan died. He says he’s happy for her, and she says, it took a while. They messed up for a couple of months. They’d get close, then one of them would chicken out and take a step back, but they were finally able to admit their feelings for each other. He says she deserves it, and she appreciates that. She wants Griff to trust he’ll find love again. It won’t replace Kiki or what they had, but they’ll make something new. Laura comes in, and says she’s sorry to interrupt. Maxie says she just said the same thing to Anna; everyone is happy to see Griff. He’s there to help Lucas. Laura says it’s kind of him, and she’s sure it’s a comfort to Bobbie. He says they’re praying for the best; it’s all they can do really. Maxie suggests calling Peter; maybe they can all have dinner. Laura says she just ran into Peter at the hospital, and he barely had time to talk to her.

The gunman gets the better of Andre, and knocks him out. I say, sh*t! He goes over to Franco. Peter walks in, and picks up the gun. The gunman asks what he’s doing, and Peter takes the silencer off of the gun.

Scotty tells Cameron that he has to be honest; he’s scared too, like Elizabeth, but they have to hope. They have to have faith, and believe this is going to work.

Anna comes in, and goes to the reception desk to check in for her phlebotomy appointment. A gunshot is heard, startling everyone. Anna tells the reception nurse to call 911, and tell them there’s an officer on the scene, but to send back up. Elizabeth tells Anna, it sounded like it came from the OR. Anna takes out her gun, and jets. Elizabeth tells Scotty to take care of Cameron, and Scotty pulls Cameron away, despite his protests. Elizabeth follows Anna, and Scotty shoves Cameron into an examining room. Cameron says he has to be with his mom, but Scotty says, they have an active shooter out there. Cameron doesn’t care, but Scotty says he’s not letting Cameron put himself in danger.

Anna busts into the OR, and says, don’t move. Peter says, don’t shoot; he’s unarmed. He tells her the gunman is right there. She sees him lying on the floor, kicks the gun away, and asks, who fired? Peter says, he was just walking by… Elizabeth runs in, and goes to Franco. Anna asks Peter, what happened? but he says he doesn’t know. He came in, and Andre was unconscious. Anna asks if Andre is okay, and Andre says he will be. Elizabeth checks the gunman, and says, he’s still alive.

Jax opens the door, and Valentin says Jax has always been after Nina. He doesn’t blame Jax. She’s brilliant and beautiful, but she’s taken. Jax says Nina is his associate, and he respects her. Valentin says he just happened to be outside the church that day to whisk her away after the wedding, and he just happened to be available to bring her to Windymere the next morning. Jax says, they’re done here, and Valentin says whatever happened between them that night, that’s the last time. Make sure he’s at the wedding. He wants Jax to see who she’s chosen.

Jax closes the door, and Nikolas comes out. He asks if Jax still wants to call it quits, or help him out. Jax tells him, just find his damn ring, and walks out. Nikolas slams the door.

Ava tells Nina, aside from righting the wrong she did to Spencer, she doesn’t see what teaming up with Nina gets her. Nina asks if she doesn’t want to see Valentin lose, and Ava says, who wouldn’t? But as Nina pointed out, the painting is leverage against Valentin and Nikolas, and she has the painting. Nina says, for this reason. Ava forgot she has this. She takes out the ring, and says Ava checked herself into Shadybrook, claiming she saw dead people. What’s going to keep Sonny from taking away her one remaining daughter?

Maxie apologizes for Peter being short with Laura, saying, sometimes he’s so focused on work, he doesn’t realize he’s being rude. Laura says she didn’t take it personally. She just wanted The Invader to be aware that she’s having a meeting tonight about criminal justice reform, and it’s important to get that out to the public. Maxie says she’ll make sure Peter follows up. Laura asks if she can count on them to join her, but Griff says he’s leaving tonight. Laura says, that’s too bad, and Griff says he would have liked to see Lulu. He asks how she is, and Laura asks how much time he has. A lot has changed in Lulu’s life since he left town. Dante volunteered for an undercover assignment with the WSB, and it was rough. He came home with a terrible case of PTSD. He’s in a facility, receiving treatment, but he and Lulu are divorced now. Griff is sorry to hear that, and asks about the kids. Laura says, Rocco is taking it pretty rough; Charlotte, not so much. She misses Dante, but still has Valentin, for better or worse. Jax walks in, as Griff says, Charlotte still has her father. Laura says, loving Charlotte is about the only good thing Valentin does. Jax says, hello, and Griff introduces himself. Jax asks if he heard them mention Charlotte, and Griff asks if he’s a friend of Valentin’s. Maxie says, hardly, and Griff asks how he knows Charlotte. Maxie asks if anyone told Jax how Lulu came to have a child with Valentin, and Jax says he thought it was probably more tactful not to ask. Griff says, for a time, he thought he was Charlotte’s father, and Jax asks if he and Lulu were involved. Maxie says, it’s way more convoluted than that. Laura says, Charlotte was carried by a surrogate, and Maxie adds, a shady lady named Claudette. Jax asks where Valentin fits in, and Maxie says she’s getting to that.

Nina says Ava has been trying to tell people Nikolas is alive, but without the ring as proof, nobody is going to believe her. Ava asks if she’s really lost that much credibility, and Nina says she’s been on a long, downward spiral since Kiki was killed, and she was poised to follow. She gets it. The anger, the hate, the sadness; they have that in common. She’s sorry for everything she did to Ava, but they can change this. They can turn it around. They have Nikolas’s and Valentin’s fate in their hands. Doesn’t it feel good. Ava says follow her. She shows Nina a painting, and removes a layer. Underneath is Helena’s portrait. Nina smiles.

Cameron asks how long they’re supposed to wait, and Scotty says Elizabeth will come get him. Cameron says they haven’t heard anything for a while, but Scotty won’t let him leave. He says Cameron’s mother would have his head, and Franco would kill him if he put Cameron in harm’s way. He knows Cameron is upset, and he’s the horrible step-granddad, but come soccer season, he’ll be the granddad on the sidelines, cheering Cameron on. He wants to be out there too, but they can’t. Not until everything has been neutralized. Cameron asks what do they do in the meantime? Think happy thoughts until the shooter goes away? Scotty says, why not? He’ll think about how he felt when he found out Franco was his son. Cameron says, what was that like? and Scotty says, it was kind of a nightmare.

Elizabeth asks how Andre feels, and Andre says, a little hazy. She asks if he knows what happened, and he says he started the program, and heard the OR doors open. He turned around, and a man was standing there with a gun in his hand. He rushed the guy, they struggled, and the gun fell to the ground. Andre lunged for it, and it must have been when the guy knocked him out. That’s the last thing he remembers until seeing them. Anna asks how Peter knew something was going on, and Peter says he wanted the story for The Invader. Out of respect for the family, and to make sure no boundaries were crossed, he decided to come there and do the story himself. He was headed for the waiting room, and saw a guy in scrubs. Something seemed off about him. He was lurking, and it seemed like he didn’t want anybody to notice he was there, so Peter waited and watched. Andre says, good intuition, and Peter says he knew Andre had been attacked once before, so when he saw the guy come in, he followed to make sure everything was okay. When he came in, Andre was unconscious, and the guy was standing over him with a gun. They fought, but the guy kept coming at him. He just reacted, and shot him. He didn’t know what else to do. Andre says Peter saved his life, and thanks him. Elizabeth says, what about Franco? His vitals are good, but is the program still running? What’s happening to him?

Nikolas flashes back to being with Ava at Shadybrook, and pulling his hands away from hers. He says, she grabbed his hand. The ring is in her room at Shadybrook.

Nina says, it’s been here the whole time, and Ava says, hiding in plain sight. Nina says she’s brilliant, and Ava agrees. Nina says she’s always hated this picture. It seems benevolent, but the more you look at her, the more vicious she becomes. Ava says, because she’s got a secret, and Nina says, she’s got the codicil inside. Maybe they should cover it until they plan their next move. Ava says she already has. She says she knows exactly what they’re going to do next, and calls Nina partner.

Valentin arrives at the MetroCourt, but sees Jax with everyone, and walks back out. Jax says, so Valentin hired a surrogate who gave birth to Charlotte, then posed as her mother and took off with her. Griff says, Claudette was complicated, and Maxie says, she was a pathological liar. First she tried breaking up Maxie and Nathan, then told Griff that he was Charlotte’s father. Griff says imagine his surprise when Valentin came in, and Charlotte ran to him, calling him papa. Jax says that must have been hard for Griff, and Laura says, it still is. Imagine how Lulu felt, finding out she had a daughter and she’d missed the first years of her life. Jax asks, what happened to Claudette? and Laura says, sadly, she committed suicide. Griff says he doesn’t believe it. He accepts Claudette is dead, but doesn’t believe it was suicide. She had her share of problems, but loved life too much to have killed herself.

Scotty says he doesn’t have to tell Cameron about Franco’s reputation, does he? and Cameron says, it’s all over the internet, and Franco kidnapped Aiden when he was little, so… Scotty says, that was before the tumor was removed. He was worried about his own reputation, so he distanced himself from Franco. Cameron says he did a lot of that himself when Franco started seeing his mother. Scotty says, this whole thing stinks right now. They’re waiting on the procedure, and there’s a lunatic out there with a gun. Cameron tells him not to jump to the worst case scenario before they know what’s going on. Anna knocks at the door, and tells them, the gunman has been subdued. Scotty asks if he’s alive, and she says, he’s in surgery. Franco is unharmed, and Elizabeth is with Andre. They’re trying to figure out what’s going on with Franco and this whole procedure. Scotty asks what went on? and Anna says, someone tried to kill Andre, and Peter saved him. Scotty tells Cameron, let’s get out of here.

Peter wipes the silencer clean of prints, and ditches it in a trashcan. He joins Anna, Scotty, and Cameron, and Scotty says Anna told them that they owe him some thanks for intervening. Cameron asks if anyone knows why the gunman tried to kill Andre, but Anna says, not yet. Scotty says, someone tried to kill Andre when he came to town, the same day Drew died. Anna says, and someone tried to kill Andre today. Cameron thanks Peter for all their family, and Peter says he’s glad he could help, but it all happened so fast; he really didn’t do much. Anna asks if she can talk to Peter for a second, and they go around the corner.

Peter asks if there are any updates on the guy who tried to kill Andre. She says, he’s in surgery. He’s in critical condition.

Elizabeth asks Andre how it’s looking. Andre says, the gunman came in just as the program was starting to run. He wasn’t able to supervise or control any of it. She asks if there’s anything he can do to adjust it, but he says, no. The program just finished running. The screen says, program complete, and she asks if it worked. He says they won’t know until Franco wakes up. She asks Franco to wake up and come back to her.

Tomorrow, Julian says it’s all his fault, Nelle tells Martin that she has to get out of Pentenville immediately, and Sonny says he’s not going to sit around and watch his father die.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

You can dress them up, but you can’t take them out. And some, you can’t even dress up. <sigh>

The women get ready to go to a museum. The three amoebas amigas hang out in Vicki’s room. Tamra says they’re supposed to be going to someone’s house, and Shannon says, he better have good coffee.

Emily tells Gina and Kelly that Tamra sent a video of Vicki going in an ambulance. Kelly guarantees Vicki isn’t hurt. Vicki tried to bully her, and picked on her. Braunwyn says she’s tired of picking sides. Emily says she’s not doing that, but Kelly says, they make you feel like you have to. In her interview, Emily says it’s like high school, but instead of the senior girls hating her, it’s the senior citizens. In Braunwyn’s interview, she’s excited about going to Earnest Hemingway’s house. says she loves the time he lived in; they lacked moderation. She identifies. Tamra wonders who Hemingway is, and if he’s still alive. Vicki checks on her phone, and says he died in 1961, before Tamra was born. Vicki wonders why he still has a house. I don’t even know what to say. Even Max on 2 Broke Girls would know who Hemingway was. Tour guide Rusty greets them at the house. Kelly asks if that’s a lighthouse right next door, and Rusty tells her it was so Hemingway could find his way home from the bars. There are all kinds of unique artifacts in the house, including an original Picasso tchotchke. In her interview, the producer asks Kelly what her favorite Hemingway book is, and she says For Whom the Bells Toll [sic], so points for that, close enough. There are some cats hanging around, and Rusty says Hemingway loved six-toed cats. I actually knew that, so I give myself some points. Emily tries to pet one, but kitteh is not having it. They go outside to the pool. Rusty says there’s an insane story behind it, and Emily says, whatever the story is, Kelly has done worse. I’m pissed when we don’t hear the story. It’s probably going to be in some lost footage extra episode at some point. <another sigh>

Tamra checks Vicki’s leg, and asks if she can walk. Vicki says she can, and picks up a pair of crutches. She insists they must be two different heights, and doesn’t navigate them well. Eventually, she falls, but manages to stumble back to the bed. She slides to the floor, and laugh-cries. Shannon tries to demonstrate how crutches are used, and steps on Vicki’s foot.

After changing clothes, the women meet to do some water sports. Gina is wearing the same surfing top as Kelly, but doesn’t fill it out like Kelly. In Kelly’s interview, she says, Gina went platinum, but she shouldn’t stop at the hair. She needs to get herself some tatas. If she wants to fit in, she can’t have pancakes. She, Gina, and Emily are doing some jet skiing, while Tamra, Shannon, Braunwyn and Vicki go parasailing.

In her interview, Braunwyn says she thought the trip would be the perfect opportunity for them to all work through their issues, but the camp is divided. They’re separated by where they’re staying, separated at dinner, and in the cars. She misses Shannon and Tamra, although I can’t figure out why. It feels like she still doesn’t know Tamra.

Gina wails about fish being in the water. News flash, they were here first. And she’s from Long Island. She’s never seen the ocean or been to the beach? She doesn’t understand why there aren’t more people in the water. In her interview, she says, sharks and whales eat people. It seems inappropriate. Clearly, she’s a genius when it comes to marine life too. Shannon tells the boat captain that Vicki hurt herself running from the popo. On the jet ski, Gina says she’s nervous, and Emily says, mama’s got it. In Emily’s interview, she says she used to date a drug dealer, and he had a boat and lots of jet skis. The instructor, and brother to Captain Obvious, says it must be Gina’s first time. Kelly picks up a starfish, and freaks Gina out with it. I do remember dropping the first one I picked up, since I didn’t realize it would start walking around in my hand.

The instructor gives life jackets to Tamra and Shannon. We flash back to Shannon having a meltdown over the rope climbing course they did in a previous season. In her interview, she says, maybe the string will break. She and Tamra are lifted out, and Shannon repeats, be zen, to herself. She doesn’t know if she can look. Mind you, this is passive parasailing, where she and Tamra are seated, and it’s more like an amusement park ride. The instructor tells them, once they get up, relax. On the way back down, Shannon screams, no touching the water, but she’s not the boss of this, and they glide through it. She says she hates Tamra. Still on the jet skis, Kelly sees stingrays, and Gina sees a shark. In her interview, she says, this is how I die. Kelly still has the starfish, and I get pissed, since if you don’t put them back, they die.

Jet ski guy tells Gina, no one ever died from a hammerhead, but she doesn’t want to go near it. She’s never getting in water again. In her interview, Kelly imitates her and laughs. Tamra lets go of the handlebar, as the parasailing thing goes through the water, and Shannon continues to scream. Kelly gives Gina the starfish for support, and Gina feels better now that she has a weapon. I shake my head. Shannon checks parasailing off her bucket list, never to be done again.

Emily, Gina, and Kelly sit down for lunch. Gina says, shark and jail. Her top two terrible experiences in life. Kelly says Vicki is in a wheelchair. Maybe she should be in a convalescent home. Emily has to explain what that is to Gina, and I start to wonder if anyone even graduated high school. The other women go somewhere else for lunch, and Braunwyn tells them, Kelly admits that she has anger issues. She knows she has a problem, and thinks she should go to therapy. Tamra says, or shock treatment, once again proving her high level of sensitivity toward others.

Kelly wonders why Vicki hates her so much. She doesn’t know how Vicki can have so much hate. She doesn’t know what she did. Gina says the dinner cruise is going to be great. Vicki tells the others that she doesn’t get the girl code thing. Kelly’s ex wanted to date a friend of hers; so what? We flash back to Kelly saying that Vicki is the one who should have told her. Vicki says she thinks Kelly is still in love with Michael, and reinforcing her ignorance about what Kelly was actually angry about. Braunwyn asks if Tamra thinks they can still have a boat ride and have fun tonight, and Tamra says, doesn’t it sound like it?

The women meet at the dock, and have a drink. Tamra asks if everyone had fun, and Gina says, it was like shock therapy. Braunwyn thanks them for coming. In her interview, she says it didn’t go at all as she’d hoped. We flash back to all the screeching, and then more screeching. Tamra has gotten AF hates for everyone, and they put them on. Gina’s says, Single AF, but she thinks it should be Confused AF. Kelly’s says Krazy AF, and in her interview, she says, they want to poke the bear, and thrive on getting her angry. She’s tired of it. Emily tells Kelly, all she can do is handle her own reaction, and admits to flying off the handle too. She says she found herself being reactionary, and yelling in front of her daughter. Then she saw Annabelle yelling at her little brother the same way. She has to get it under control. Kelly suggests they go to anger management together. In Kelly’s interview, she says she gets defensive and reacts. She goes for the jugular, and doesn’t want to live life like that. She needs to learn how to walk away. She says she and Tamra have been in many fights, but Tamra is there to forgive when she screws up. Sure. So Tamra can pat herself on the back and gossip about it later. Kelly says she didn’t know how the Jim thing would affect Tamra, and should have called her. Tamra says she really had Kelly’s back, and Kelly says she knows. Tamra promises to never repeat anything they talk about, and Braunwyn says, a fresh start. She wonders if Vicki and Kelly can have a fresh start. Vicki says Kelly called her a pig, and Gina says, it will take time to heal. Vicki wonders how it’s going low when she does nothing back, but Tamra says, she did, and we flash back to Vicki consistently talking about Kelly and talking to the girl from the bar fight. Braunwyn tells everyone, don’t engage; take a step back. She’s going to get so drunk, they can blame her for everything

Back home, Braunwyn tells Sean there was a lot of drama and fights, but they had fun. They keep rolling. Get in a huge fight, just jump in a convertible, and puke out the side.

Shannon meets a party planner to talk about decorations for Vicki’s engagement party. Tamra gets impatient.

Gina and Sienna get their ceramic on at a pottery place. Sienna wants to be Batgirl when she grows up.

Eddie, Tamra, Braunwyn, Sean, Shannon, and Ken meet for dinner. Tamra tells Braunwyn that they don’t have many couple friends. In her interview, Shannon explains that Ken doesn’t live in California, but they’ve kept in touch. He’s in town, and they’re having fun. Eddie asks why the girls keep calling him babe, and Shannon says when they first went out, she called him that without thinking. Tamra says they had a lot of fun on the trip, and it makes her sad. Kelly and Vicki have known each other a long time. She hopes they can come to an understanding, and bury the hatchet. They’ve both gone dirty. It’s not like one is worse than the other. Shannon says going low causes long term damage. She went through that with Vicki. Tamra says Vicki did it to her and Eddie, and Shannon says she did it to David too. Tamra says, when she feels backed into a corner, she attacks. Shannon says Vicki and Kelly are alike that way. Tamra tells Shannon that Kelly and Emily are going to anger management together. Acknowledging anger is the first step. Maybe they can agree to disagree. In Shannon’s interview, she says she’s been in therapy a long time, and seen an improvement. One session isn’t going to change anything. In Tamra’s interview, she says, if Kelly doesn’t go to Vicki’s engagement party, she might regret it. If she can get back on track with Vicki, she knows Kelly can. Tamra says she invited Kelly to Vicki’s engagement party, but she might not go.

Kelly and Brian hit balls at the batting cages. Kelly gets four to Brian’s zero. She tells him that she talked to Tamra, who invited her to go to Vicki’s engagement party. Vicki keeps going after her, and these people are like Jekyll and Hyde. Brian asks if she thinks they can save the friendship. Is there anything left? Kelly says, no, and he says, then stop trying. Kelly says she’s done. In her interview, she says, why go? Vicki will be nice to her, then cut her, and then pour salt in the wound. Vicki wants to take her down. It doesn’t make sense. Brian tells her to think about priorities. Kelly asks what’s next for them, and he says they need to start looking for a place. She says she’s not moving in with him without being engaged. In Kelly’s interview, she says, Brian clearly has commitment issues, but she wants to do things the right way. If he can’t meet her criteria, bye Phillipe. Brian says they’re not getting tired of each other – yet.

In Gina’s interview, she says they’ve sold the Codo house. She looks around and sees happy memories, but there are also bad memories. She calls Susan, who compliments Gina on her shorter hair – which does look a million times better – and Gina says she took the extensions out, and is letting her hair get healthy. Good call. She tells Susan that they’re packing; the deal is going through. Both she and Matt are excited, and it will be a done deal in two weeks. Susan asks how it affected the relationship, and Gina says they’re not getting divorced. Susan says, wow, and I second that. Gina says, it’s the first time Matt has been in a fight for his family. They both get it now, and they’re more connected. In her interview, Gina says, they’ve been through a lot – we flash back to the main points in their relationship throughout Gina’s two seasons. She says she’s going to embrace this. Susan says she didn’t know Matt well. She knew the Matt that he wanted to present, but she knows him better now. He had a genuine moment when he found out Sienna needed to go to therapy. She could see in his face that he understood. Gina says, it was a wake-up call, and Susan says, marriage is hard work. If you hang in, you get to a special place where you know the person in a more complete way. In Gina’s interview, she says she’d be naïve to trust Matt 100%, but she’s doing her best to let go of the anger, and let her guard down. That’s the only way it’s going to work.

In her interview, Tamra says, Spencer broke up with his girlfriend, and he’s never had this kind of pain. Since then, he’s gotten four tattoos, and a septum ring, and he’s dyed his hair three different colors. Who is he? Ryan comes in, and Spencer says he looks like a struggling alcoholic with his shades on. Ryan says he’s struggling, but Spencer is already there. Tamra says they had their last conversation on social media. In Tamra’s interview, she says she wants her sons to sit down and talk it out. She wants everything normal again. Ryan says he didn’t anticipate some of the things Spencer said. Spencer has to be more understanding about how their upbringings and lives are different. Spencer says he’s grateful for what he’s gotten, and doesn’t try to take advantage of it. Tamra says, sounds good, and Ryan says, Spencer has done it in the past, but Spencer says he’s over it. He points out that Tamra has been pissed about work, and taking it out on others. In her interview, Tamra says someone is trying to rip everything away from her – we see media coverage of the lawsuit with Jim – and she’s been taking it out on Eddie and the kids. Spencer says they don’t talk that often, and Tamra says she’s been up until four the last few nights talking to him. Spencer says she just told him, get over it. In Tamra’s interview, she says she was on the phone with Spencer when she was in Florida, trying to help him with the break up. She doesn’t know where this is coming from. Spencer has a broken heart. He’s upset, and taking it out on her. Spencer thinks they should address it, and Ryan says the whole family is like that, and Tamra is no different than anyone else in the family. Tamra gets up, and says this is his family too, and it’s difficult on everybody. In her interview, she says Ryan isn’t speaking to his father. Spencer isn’t speaking to his father, and Sidney doesn’t speak to her. It’s the most dysfunctional functional family ever. Spencer says they crack jokes to deal with things.

Kelly and Emily meet with therapist Mike at the beach, and they sit. Kelly says she needs to learn how to walk away, and not let herself get angry. He asks what goals they have. If he waved a magic wand, what would they want changed? Emily says when her husband rubs her the wrong way, it makes her mad. She gets defensive, and she’s quick to snap at him. Sometimes, he deserves it, but not all the time. He asks where she thinks it comes from a hard childhood. Her dad left when she was young, and her mom was a single mother. Emily was angry as a kid. In Emily’s interview, she says she wondered why she had to put herself on the bus, why there was no lunch money, and why there was no food. Kelly says she had a good childhood, but her mom was combative, and had a sharp tongue. If you’re going to fight with her, game on. Emily says she noticed her six-year-old yelling at her brother, who’s four. She was really going at him, and it crushed Emily’s soul. She realized a change was needed, and she had to dig deeper and choose loving kindness. Mike tells them to close their eyes. Who do they see as the person who’s always easy to love? Kelly says, her daughter Jolie, and Emily says her three kids. He tells them to move on to the person or people who are most difficult to love. Emily says, her parents, and Kell says Vicki, Eric, and Michael. Mike tells them to say, may you be happy; may you be healthy; may you be peaceful. Kelly flashes back to Vicki giving her the finger, and says she wants to punch Vicki in the face. Ha-ha-ha! He says if they react, they’re letting them win. The ultimate winning is to cultivate calm. Emily says she realizes she’s hard on herself. She wants her kids to be perfect, her house to be perfect, and her husband to be perfect. She grew up in chaos. He says she has to learn to loosen her grip, with herself too, in order to learn how to be kind to other people. Kelly says it takes everything in her not to lose her sh*t with Vicki. She doesn’t want to hate Vicki, and wants to act with love and kindness. She wants her daughter to be a better form of her, and she’s an example. He tells her that when she Vicki says something, see her daughter in her mind’s eye, and do it for her. Kelly says, it’s brilliant. He asks what they can do differently, and Emily says she’s going to take what she learned home, and focus on a visualization of her kids. She wants to think of them being happy and healthy, and tell herself that she’s better than this. Mike wants to talk about Vicki. What are they doing at present; using avoidance? Kelly says she does try to avoid Vicki, and he says, change happens through experience. When people have a phobia, it’s not the idea of a snake, but the experience of seeing one, and the person realizing they’re not going to die, that cures it. Experiences profoundly change us. Emily says when she sees Vicki, she’s not going to let Vicki get her goat. She can deal with her. She can go with the tools she’s cultivated today. Kelly says she feels like Emily is at level 400, and she’s regressed to the GED level.

In Kelly’s interview, she says she doesn’t want to succumb to being vicious and angry. She wants to be more kind and loving, and hopes this works. Emily thinks it’s an opportunity for Kelly to prove Vicki wrong, and be classy. Mike says it’s the ultimate test, and Kelly has what it takes.

Next time – the finale – Emily wonders how much Matt has really changed, Vicki’s engagement party, Shannon is disappointed in Kelly, and Tamra yells eff you and runs off.
