What I Watched Today

General Hospital

I’ve consistently missed the beginning of the show every day this week, so why end the week any differently? <sigh> Sonny is taking Mike for a walk in the hallway, Molly has shown up to confront Jordan about TJ, and Doc pays Cyrus a visit.

On the phone Robert says, there’s nothing to be happy about, but the law doesn’t give them many choices. Laura says, that didn’t sound good, and he says, the information is going to be sent to Cyrus’s lawyers, who will ask for a writ of habeas corpus. Then a judge will look at it, and Cyrus walks. Laura says, that’s completely unacceptable. She won’t have that monster roaming free on the streets of Port Charles. He asks how she plans to stop him, and she says, watch her.

Sonny tells Mike, he’s got him, and Carly says they can come back. Brando says he just wanted to thank Mike for the summer at the track. He was ten years old, and obsessed with horses. Mike told him it ran in the family. Carly says, that sounds like Mike, and Mike says, Brando. Glady’s son. He remembers. Is Brando passing through? Carly says, Sonny is helping Brando open a garage in Port Charles. Mike says, good, and Sonny says, Brando is a nice guy. Brando says it was nice of Mike, and Mike says he appreciates him stopping by. He’s a little tired, so can Brando come by again some other time? Brando says he’d like that, and Carly tells Mike to get some rest. They’ll be there. Sonny walks Mike back to his room, and says it was a nice surprise visit. Mike says he doesn’t know Brando.

Curtis gets that Molly is upset, but it’s out of their hands. It’s time to accept it’s out of hers. TJ is a grown man, and taking time for himself. If the situations were reversed, TJ would respect her privacy. Molly says she’d make sure someone got a message to TJ, and not completely shut him out. Curtis says they don’t like how TJ is handling it, but it’s time they were all patient. She says she’s done being patient. TJ completely ghosted her, and is ignoring her texts and calls. She knows he’s disappointed, but this is vindictive and mean. Jordan says they don’t know where he is, and Molly says TJ is responding to Jordan, and asks if she’ll give him a message. She’s tired of the cold shoulder. They’re better than this, and they need to talk. Jordan says she’ll give TJ a message, but can’t guarantee when he’ll get back to Molly. Molly says Jordan knows how much she loves TJ, and Jordan says, she does, but right now, love isn’t enough. Molly says she’ll give TJ 24 hours, and then she’ll start a search herself. She’ll get Sam and Spinelli to help, and she’ll take out an ad in The Invader; have you seen this man? Jordan tells her to stop acting like a child.

On the phone, Laura tells someone she wants it as soon as possible. Robert asks if she’s going to keep him in suspense, or tell him. She says she’ll tell him when the time is right, and he says he hates being blindsided. She says Mac is out following leads on the warehouse and waterfront shootings, hoping they find something that ties it into Cyrus. Robert says, it’s more likely they won’t be able to, and Laura saysm the goal is to keep Cyrus locked up long enough to find evidence to make the charges stick. He says, suppose she succeeds? They know Cyrus can run his operation from behind bars. Laura says she told him that she wants to keep Cyrus locked up, but not in Pentenville.

Cyrus says, they brought in a shrink to get inside his head? Let him help Doc. No, he didn’t like to pull the wings off of flies. Doc says, but he did it anyway? Cyrus says they both know that’s not what he means, and Doc asks, what does he mean? Cyrus asks if this is how it’s going to go, and Doc says Cyrus’s first impulse was to insist he didn’t do something he thought Doc might ask about. Why that specific question? Cyrus says it’s what people like him ask, and Doc says, people like him; psychiatrists? Cyrus says, no, Methodists. I see we have another comedian behind bars. Doc says he’s interviewed many criminals like Cyrus, and Cyrus says, everyone wants to see what makes him tick. Why is that? Doc says he read Cyrus’s file. Cyrus says, and Doc has a fascination with him. Doc says, not necessarily fascination, and Cyrus says, but at least a healthy interest. He’s sure Doc has somewhere else he could be, but here he is. Doc says Cyrus’s second assessment was correct; an interest, not a fascination. Doc says he’s interviewed a lot like of men like Cyrus, and Cyrus says, but Doc has never met anyone like him.

Sam tells Jason that Spinelli followed Delores to her rendezvous. She’s having an affair with a councilmen, but they caught Spinelli taking pictures. Jason asks if it was in a hotel or motel, and Sam says, in the back of her car. Not the most discreet, but Delores threatened to arrest and charge Spinelli if he didn’t keep her secret. This also made it worse for Sam. Now Delores is determined to find something that will get her ass thrown back Pentenville. Jason says it’s time to stop looking for a way out; she was lucky she wasn’t thrown back in. She says her mom said the same thing, and he says she’s got to listen. If she thinks waiting is bad, it will be worse if she has to finish the rest of her sentence back in prison. Sam says they won’t see each other for a year and half. Is that what he wants? He says, no, but that’s what has to happen to keep her out of prison.

Mike tells Sonny, they’re trying to get one over on him, pretending they’re family. He needs Sonny to do something. Tell his boss that he needs to have security keep an eye on those two. Whoever they are, they’re up to no good.

Brando asks Carly if Mike is always like that, and she says, pretty much. She’s glad Mike recognized him, and he says, him too. That summer at the track is a good memory. She says, as Mike slips away, it’s important to remember the man he was. He says, Sonny is patient with him, and seems devoted. She says, when Mike was first diagnosed, Sonny worried that he couldn’t handle it, and couldn’t do what Mike needed. She never had any doubt. Family is everything to Sonny.

Molly says, it’s not being childish to want answers, but Jordan say she’s behaving like brat. Because TJ isn’t talking to her, she wants to call TV stations. She needs to get over it. She doesn’t want to see that her actions have consequences. She broke TJ’s heart, and he doesn’t want to be with her.

Doc tells Cyrus, that’s an intriguing statement. Does Cyrus think he’s more dangerous than other prisoners? Cyrus asks if that’s what Doc would like him to think, and Doc says he wants to know what Cyrus thinks. Is he more dangerous, or more of a threat? Cyrus tells Doc, he said he was more interesting, and Doc says, so he’s not dangerous? Cyrus says, he didn’t say that. Doc writes something, and Cyrus asks if Doc thinks he’s got him figured out. Doc says he’s documenting Cyrus’s veiled threat. When he asked if Cyrus was more dangerous, he refused to confirm it. Cyrus says, Doc thinks that’s a threat? and Doc says, a veiled one. It’s like when someone says, nice car. It would be a shame if something happened to it. Cyrus says, if he threatens Doc, he’ll know it. Cyrus wonders if he can ask Doc a question, and Doc says, of course (🍷); ask away. He asks if Doc could be perceiving an innocuous statement as a threat because of a manifestation of his own insecurities. Doc says, touché. He bets Cyrus is an excellent chess player. Cyrus says he never loses. Doc says, it’s been insightful, and thanks him. Cyrus says Doc never told him why he’s there. Doc says he’s doing a study about men behind bars, specifically solitary confinement. He’s been speaking to a lot prisoners. Cyrus has been helpful. Cyrus says, Doc’s name is Collins? Doc says, it’s a common name, but Cyrus probably recognizes it because his wife is the mayor. Cyrus says, Laura. She’s the reason he’s in solitary. Doc says, is she? Cyrus says, be sure to send his regards, and Doc leaves.

Trina tells Ava, after her dad died, Jordan went back over the files, and says her dad faked evidence. She told the Justice Department, and they’re going to let Cyrus out of prison. Ava says, that’s unlikely; it would be a major reversal. Trina says she doesn’t know the legal term, but her father is dead, and Cyrus is going to be out. How is that justice? The media is going to trash her dad, when he’s not a bad cop. Her father was a good man. Ava says she didn’t have a chance to know him, but from what Trina has said, she bets there’s only one person whose opinion mattered to him – Trina’s.

Jason takes Sam’s hands. He says it doesn’t matter how much they hate this. What’s important is she’s free, and home safe with the kids. She says, of course (🍷) it’s important, but so is finding a way to be together. He asks if it’s worth the risk? Her chance of going back to prison is worse than ever, especially now. She asks, what’s going on? and he says, Cyrus is attacking Sonny on all fronts. Out here, he can make sure she’s protected, but if she goes back, she’ll be in the middle of a war zone. Is Pentenville a co-ed prison?

Sam says she thought Sonny was handling Cyrus, and Jason says he’s working on it. It’s tough. Cyrus is powerful, and has a lot of people. Sam asks what that means, and he says, Sonny and Cyrus handle things differently. There are things Sonny won’t do that cross the line, and there’s no line Cyrus won’t cross. No one is off limits. Sam says she knows. He kidnapped Cameron and Trina, and used them as leverage. He says, they weren’t the only ones. Cyrus has TJ Ashford.  

Brando tells Carly, he mostly focused on the horses, but he got the impression that Mike and Sonny weren’t close. Mike was sorry for that. Carly says, if Mike hadn’t gotten sick, Sonny would have been okay with the distance. They both would have, but with Alzheimer’s, the distance isn’t up to them. You have to fight for every single moment. Brando says he doesn’t think he could do it, and Carly prays he never had to find out what it’s like. Sonny wanted to make peace with Mike before he slips away. Brando says, as much as he wasn’t happy at first about them keeping him there, he has to admit, it’s been good to connect with family. Carly says they enjoy having him there, even though they’re taking time to get to know him. Brando needs to get back to the shop, and Carly says she’s good. He leaves, and someone with very LOUD shoes goes by. Sonny comes back, and says he just left his dad. Mike doesn’t know who Brando is.

Ava tells Trina, nothing and no one can tarnish the love her father had for her. He’s her hero, and that’s all that matters. In a way, Taggert is Ava’s hero too. Trina says Ava didn’t know him, but Ava says she knows Trina. Her father saved her. He put his love for her above everything else, even his own life. That’s the true test of a hero and parent, putting everything aside for their child. Trina wishes there had been some other way, and Ava says she knows how important it is for Trina to keep her father on a pedestal. Trina says she didn’t put him there; it’s just where he always was. He was always a hero to her.

Molly tells Jordan, her not wanting to get married to anyone has nothing to do with how much she loves TJ. Jordan says, maybe not, but TJ gave her his heart and life, and she threw it back in his face. He got the message. She made a choice that served her, and didn’t care about TJ’s feelings. Molly says, that’s not true, and Jordan says Molly could have fooled her. Molly says Jordan made her point, and Jordan says, has she? Before Molly launches a search, remember TJ didn’t leave; she pushed him away. Molly says she’s got it. She never expected to break up with TJ, and she sure didn’t expect him do it through his mother. She leaves, and Jordan leans against the door. She tells Curtis, she had to do it. She had to stop Molly from searching. Curtis says, it will be okay, and she says she prays it worked.

Sonny tells Carly, his dad was scared. He thought Brando was going to hurt him. He wants Sonny to tell his bosses to beef up security. Carly says she’s so sorry, and Sonny says he’s got to go tell his dad that his boss is getting more men. He laughs, and she asks if there’s anything she can do to help? He says she’s done a lot already, and thanks her.

There’s a knock at the garage door, and Brando opens it to Molly. He says they’re closed, and she says, of course (🍷). It’s that kind of day. She guesses she’ll have to call a tow. She drives a hybrid, since it’s better for the environment. He asks what she hit, and she says, nothing; she went over a curb. The undercarriage is making a grating noise, and she doesn’t want to wreck the engine. He asks if there was any chance she was drinking, and she says she wishes; she’s totally sober. He asks if any other cars were involved, and if she needs the police, but she says it was just her. Sorry to bother him. She should have called a tow to begin with since the garage was closed. He says, on second thought, he’ll check it out.

Laura asks how it went, and Doc tells her, as expected. Cyrus is a narcissist. He made a subtle, veiled threat when his pride was hurt. He took exception to Doc minimizing how dangerous he was. She asks if they can lock him up, and Doc says, he’s sane. Under ordinary circumstances, he’d be opposed to that, but he has no problem recommending that he be moved to a psychological facility under medical supervision. Robert comes in and asks if that’s the plan. Laura asks how much he heard, and he says, enough to know it’s not going to work. Laura says she can have Cyrus transferred to Ferncliff, and Robert asks, for how long? She says they can keep him long enough for an extensive evaluation. Long enough to come up with a fresh case against him. Robert says Cyrus’s lawyers are going to take one look, and see it’s a ploy to keep Cyrus behind bars. Laura says she’ll argue that she wants him to get the care he needs. Robert says, and Doc will argue that it’s in his best interest. Doc says, exactly, and Laura says she’s not above doing what she has to, to keep Cyrus off the street, including having him committed. Robert says, it’s not going to work.

Mike recognizes Sonny, and asks, what took so long? Sonny apologizes, and Mike says, it’s all right; Sonny is there now. He hates hospitals. Can Sonny get him out? He just wants to go home. Sonny says, as soon as the doctors say it’s okay, he’ll take Mike back to Turning Woods. He remembers Turning Woods, right? Mike says, it’s a great place, but after that they get to go home, right? He doesn’t want to be around these people anymore; it doesn’t feel right. Sonny tells him to rest, and Mike says he’s tired. Sonny says, take a break. Close his eyes, and don’t worry. They’ll be waiting. Mike takes Sonny’s hands, and says, everything is going be all right. Sonny will see when they get back Bensonhurst; it will be all right. Mike lies down, closes his eyes, and drifts off.

Sonny goes back out, and Carly asks how Mike is doing. Sonny doesn’t know, and tells her to go home; he’s got to stay tonight. She says she knows how hard it is when Mike doesn’t recognize him, but Sonny says, he did. He knew Sonny’s name, the whole thing; he was great. Sonny sits down, and says, his dad wanted him to take him back to Bensonhurst. He looked Sonny in the eye, and he hasn’t done that in days. He said all he wants to do is go home.

Brando tells Molly, it’s not bad. It just needs some front end work. She asks if she should take it to the dealership, and he says, it’s up to her. She says he was nice enough to take a look, and she’d rather give him the business, assuming he can do the repair. He says, sure, and she says he doesn’t sound enthusiastic. He says he’s happy for the business, but she didn’t chose to come there, and he wasn’t recommend. She came out of desperation, and he doesn’t want to take advantage of that.

Ava says, any time Trina wants to talk, or even if she doesn’t, she’s available. Right now though, she’d like Trina to do something for her. Trina says, name it, and Ava says, call her mother. Let her know she’s safe. Ava knows what it’s like to worry about a daughter, no matter how angry she is. Trina takes out her phone, and calls. Ava gives her privacy.

Curtis tells Jordan, Molly will get over it, but Jordan says she can’t get over the look on Molly’s face. He says, when this is over, Molly will know Jordan was trying to protect her, and understand that Jordan loves her. She says here’s hoping it worked. Not just for Molly. Everyone needs to believe TJ is just dealing with rejection and disappeared. Curtis says, it makes sense, and she says she has to break Molly’s heart and destroy the reputations of the finest agents she’s ever met to make sure Cyrus and his drug dealing are off the streets.

Brando tells Molly, there’s no website yet; he just opened. She asks if it was a surprise, and he says he didn’t plan on opening a garage, not in Port Charles anyway. Long story. She says she loves them; the more convoluted, the better. He asks if she’s a novelist, and she says she’s a published author. She was sixteen at the time. He says, that’s even more impressive, and she says, it was a romance novel. Looking back, it was arrogant to think she could write about life and love, when she knew nothing. He asks if she still writes, but she says, not any more. Now she’s a law student. He says, so if she doesn’t like the repair, she’ll sue him. She asks if he can repair it, and he says he can. She says, at a fair price? and he says, absolutely. She says she’ll have no grounds. He says not to act grateful yet. He hasn’t drawn up the estimate. She says, it’s the perfect rotten end of a perfectly rotten day.

Trina tells Ava, her mom was glad she checked in, and Ava says she’s sure Portia would like to keep Trina at home, and not let Trina out of her sight. Trina says, normally, she’d hate that, but now, it’s not so bad. All of it is going to be coming out; the evidence her dad supposedly planted. It will be all over the news, and his name will be dirt. She’ll be the only one who remembers what a good man he was. Ava says, even if everyone loses faith, Trina won’t, and she’s the only person who matters. Trina says, it doesn’t feel like enough, and Ava says, she is; she was for him. Her father left behind an incredible legacy. Not just with his work as a cop, but with the way Trina saw him walk through the world. He shaped her, and she’s extraordinary. Trina is his legacy. They hug.

Curtis promises it will end, and Jordan will take Cyrus out. She wonders what’s taking so long. They have everything they need for Cyrus to vacate. He says she knows how it goes. They have to get the order in front of a judge. She says, and once they do, the most evil man she’s ever known is going to go free.

Laura asks if Robert is suggesting they just sit back and let Cyrus go free. He says the justice system isn’t perfect, but they can’t disrespect it. Doc says, not even if it was a random drug lord, whose body count was strangers? It’s a legitimate course of action. Robert says, it’s nothing to be happy about, but they have to get used to the fact Cyrus is getting out. And when he does, Laura will be in his crosshairs for what she did to him in Pentenville. Laura says she’s not worried about herself, but her city. Port Charles is going to see a spike in drug trafficking. She asks if there’s any other option to delay Cyrus’s release.

Sonny tells Carly, he thought watching his father fade away  would be the hardest part. His father knowing him, looking him in the eye, father to son, and pleading that all he wants  to do is go home; it’s the one thing Sonny can’t give him. This is hell. He can’t do it. Carly holds him, and says, yes, he can. She’s got him.

On Monday – tomorrow they’ll be airing their 56th Anniversary episode (originally aired on April 3rd, 2019) – Josslyn wants to find Trina, Jason tells Sam that he can’t do this anymore, and Carly asks Sonny what the hell he’s going to do.

The Real Housewives of New York City

We begin with the news of Bethenny’s exit, and how the cast found out, since apparently, Bethenny didn’t let anyone know. She could be caustic, but she was also intelligent, funny, and knew her way around a kitchen. And most important, every once in a while, blew her stack and said what was on all our minds. Life. Is. Not. A. Cabaret. Sonja feels abandoned all over again, and Ramona thinks it will be better; the women will be freer in spirit. In LeeAnn’s interview, a producer asks how she feels. LuAnn says, it’s hard to say. She’ll miss Bethenny, but the show must go on – without her.

LuAnn leaves the criminal court building, accompanied by Sonja. They hug on the steps, and LuAnn says, it’s finally over. She stops by a coffee cart on the corner, telling Sonja it’s her coffee guy. He says he thought she was finished, and in her interview, she says, it’s finally over; her probation is finished. It’s been almost two years. We flash back to LuAnn looking sad in court, and explaining to the others that she had to use a breathalyzer to drive. She says what people don’t understand is that she wasn’t fully present. This was always on her mind. It’s like someone lifted a ton of bricks. They sit and chat, and Sonja says, when LuAnn was first arrested, she didn’t care. She hit bottom, and thought things were great. Then she started becoming a cabaret star, and she wasn’t there for them. LuAnn says, what about her? Ugh. Same old. Sonja says she treated them like fans. In Sonja’s interview, she lists some of the ways LuAnn was a brat last season. The tantrum in the fish room, dumping Sonja after the AA meeting to go see her own poster, and coming back without truffle fries. That’s the real misdemeanor. LuAnn didn’t understand Sonja’s pain. As they hug, Sonja eats a pretzel behind LuAnn’s back.

Tinsley meets friend, and new cast member, Leah at the gym. In Tinsley’s interview, she says the summer was all about her. She moved on from Scott, worked on her lash line, and went to China, bringing back two puppies, Strawberry and Shortcake. She’s been focusing on herself, and it feels liberating. She met Leah a couple months ago, and Leah brings out her wilder side. She says what she feels, and has no filter. She also has a twelve-year-old daughter. Tinsley takes her hoops off, saying she feels like she’s losing  part of herself. Boxing trainer Martin says, nobody gives a f***. After the session, Tinsley and Leah sit and talk. Tinsley tells Leah that she only knew Chicago through Scott, but met Bruce while she was there. She doesn’t like his name, but she can’t change it. He’s been married twice and has three kids. In her interview, Tinsley thinks it’s the best way to have children; she can give them back. She tells Leah, she’s usually all-in immediately, but it’s the first time she’s being guarded, and not thinking too far ahead. Leah says she’s enjoying being single. She and her last boyfriend went to France, and on the flight home she asked what was going on with his divorce. He said it was on hold, so she told him that her p*ssy was on hold too. Ha! Good one.

Dorinda is still with John, and she’s prepping for his cooking class – i.e. her teaching him how to make lasagna. She tells him the doctor says she’s healing like a twenty-year-old, and he says she still acts like a twenty-year-old. In her interview, Dorinda says Carson Kressley was teaching her some Dancing with the Stars moves at a dinner party, flung her over a balcony, and she broke a rib. There was no mention as to whether alcohol was involved. She tells John, it forced her to look at things, and become dependent on him. In Dorinda’s interview, she says her injury made it necessary for her and John to spend time together. It’s been good, but weird; she’s not used to it. She confirms that familiarity breeds contempt.  They make lasagna, and Dorinda tells him about LuAnn. She doesn’t know why it’s a big deal. In Dorinda’s interview, she says she and LuAnn are in a good place, but their friendship had gone off the tracks. We flash back to mostly Dorinda being mean to LuAnn, and yelling, Jovani! during LuAnn’s cabaret show. She says, they’ve both transitioned to better places, and she’s not overthinking it.

Ramona meets friends Maria, Missy and Elyse, along with new neighbor/friend Mitchell, at a bar. In Ramona’s interview, she says she had a fabulous summer. She sold her condo, and has a new apartment on the Upper East Side, but she was living the Hamptons life. She admits she’s been escaping; masking something in her mind. She tells her friends that she feels like a youngster, but she’s sixty, and lacks direction. She feels empty and alone. In her interview, she says she has no important man in her life. Elyse says she’s surprised that Ramona feels that way, and Ramona starts to cry. Oh, yay. The bar buddy everyone wants. A weepy one. She says she wants a man to hold her, love her, and marry her, and doesn’t know if she’ll find one. I should add, an embarrassing bar buddy as well, since she’s LOUD.

Leah and daughter Kier go out to a juice bar. In her interview, Leah says, New York City is the best city in the world, and I tend to agree. She has a clothing line, Married to the Mob (which I’m actually familiar with), and lives with her daughter. They’re best friends, soulmates, and life partners. She doesn’t know if that’s healthy, but it’s the way it is. Kier is starting school soon, and Leah tells her to be herself, try her best, and don’t let the bitches get to her. Kier says her grandma told her that Leah was a horrible child. In Leah’s interview, she says their family situation isn’t traditional. Her baby daddy was her first love, and she thought they’d be together until they died, but they haven’t been together since Kier was two. Even so, he’s pretty much family.

Ramona visits Sonja, along with her pup Coco, who wants to romance Sonja’s pup Marley, even though there’s nothing they can ultimately do about it, since they’re fixed. Sonja says she’s been a recluse and has gas. Ramon tells Sonja not to send any of that her way. Sonja says she just took her daughter to college, and she lost it. In Sonja’s interview, she says when her daughter was in boarding school, she came home on weekends with her friends. The best Sonja can do now is be supportive about college, but she’s dying inside. Ramona says, when kids are away, they appreciate you more, and Sonja says she wants to give her daughter space. Sonja says, when she went to college, she flew the coop, and never looked back. The dogs continue to go at it.

Dorinda prepares for a party on the rooftop of Magic Hour restaurant. In her interview, she says she’s the entertainer of the group. You never know what you’ll get with Sonja, Ramona always invites the same thirty people, LuAnn’s parties always have a ticket booth out front, and who would Tinsley invite? Scott? We flash back to Dorinda calling Tinsley out on Scott and living in the hotel. Dorinda tells her makeup artist, Tinsley gave her a speech on how she didn’t want to hear conspiracy theories about her life, but she tells it like she sees it.

Tinsley tells her hair stylist that she’s anxious because she’s about to see the girls. The accusations about her and Scott are bullsh*t. We flash back to a Scott moment. In Tinsley’s interview, she wishes she understood why Dorinda is focused on her. Clearly something is going on in her own life that’s making her unhappy, so she’s projecting. Dorinda says she doesn’t know anything about Tinsley. The minute they go deep, Tinsley retracts like a turtle. In Dorinda’s interview, she says she doesn’t know if Tinsley has the ability to open up, but they’re not cocktail party talkers; they’re bad bitches.

Tinsley brings Leah to Dorinda’s party, and Leah wonders if there are any eligible bachelors to pick up. In her interview, Dorinda says she’s good at parties. She brings people from all different places and professions, and throws them into a room like a crazy soup, then puts the heat on high. Tinsley refuses to clink glasses because Sonja and Leah aren’t drinking alcohol, and it’s bad luck. I think that applies only to water, but Tinsley lives in her own world. She puts a drink stirrer in her drink, and then sticks it in theirs to make it okay. New rule. In Leah’s interview, she says she and alcohol have a weird relationship. She didn’t drink for nine years, and then started again six months ago. She enjoys going crazy. We see a clip of her telling Tinsley that every twenty times, she’s a hot mess and takes a loser home, wondering how he got there the next morning. The other night she drank too much, and lost Chanel bag along with her passport, so she’s putting it on pause. Everyone comments on Dorinda’s fabulous new haircut, which really does flatter her. LuAnn says she has her life back. In her interview, LuAnn says, it’s hard to wrap her head around the fact she could have gone to jail for having a drink, and now she can do what she wants. She worked hard to get where she is, and doesn’t want to give it up. She’s Lu and improved. Tinsley introduces Leah to everyone.

Dorinda welcomes everyone. She says, another summer is over, and she wanted to have an end-of-the-summer party, since they scatter during the summer. She tells them that she has a big surprise, and drag queen Chelsea Piers comes out (no pun intended), and performs Feelin’ Jovani, while LuAnn fights for the spotlight. In LuAnn’s interview, she says obviously Dorinda has gotten past this. It’s not an olive branch; it’s the whole tree. In Leah’s interview, she says she has no clue what Jovani is, and looks it up on her phone, looking confused when she finds out it’s a clothing designer. I guess she’s never watched this show. In Dorinda’s interview, she says, she loves hard, fights hard, and forgives easily. It seems ridiculous now. Leah explains she’s a native New Yorker, and LuAnn says, but she looks so normal. Leah says she doesn’t see herself tied down, but Ramona says she wants to be tied down. (Leaving those jokes for someone else.) LuAnn tells Leah, they’re kind of old school, since they were both married a long time. Leah and LuAnn compare arrests, and oddly enough, both attacked police officers. In Leah’s interview, she says she ran into a guy she had a crush on 4th of July, 2002. She was mid-kiss when suddenly five cops were beating him up. Her kneejerk reaction was to hit a cop, and he punched her, then smashed her face into the subway grate. Nice. She sued and won, and decided she’d been making bad choices, so she’d be smart with the money, and used it for her brand.

Tinsley asks Dorinda to come outside and talk. They sit, and Tinsley says she feels like they were friends, but had issues, and she wants to have a lunch date where they can talk. Dorinda says, about Tinsley’s text on conspiracy theories, she’s always trying to pull information out of Tinsley. She saw Tinsley in January, when she’d said she wasn’t with Scott, and a week later, she was having dinner with him. In Dorinda’s interview, she says, it’s about transparency. Tinsley has things going on, and they find out about them elsewhere. She thinks Tinsley is a riddle they’re never going to solve. She doesn’t know the answer. Tinsley wins. Inside, Sonja chats up hot guy William, who’s Ramona’s ex-lover. Sonja says Ramona is always going after her guys, so she’s turning the tables. She tells William that she’s not dating young guys, but if you don’t use it, you lose it. Leah doesn’t think he can handle Sonja. In her interview, Leah feels like William is the kind of guy who wouldn’t know his way around a woman’s body, rub you in the wrong place, and you’d have to explain it to him or he’ll just keep it up. Sonja says she doesn’t want to go home empty-handed. Wake up and smell the Sonja. Dorinda tells Tinsley, it’s not just her, but Tinsley says, actually, it is. Dorinda won’t listen to her, and keeps calling her a liar. Dorinda says, don’t put words in her mouth.

Dorinda tells Tinsley not to be tricky with her. Don’t ride up on her and make a statement. I have no idea what that means. Tinsley says she doesn’t give a sh*t, and what she thinks is that Dorinda doesn’t want to be her friend. Dorinda says she wants to know who Tinsley is, but Tinsley just wants to make a big statement, and it’s not going to work. Dorinda flounces off, and plops down next to LuAnn on a couch. She tells LuAnn that Tinsley came up on her hot, and told Dorinda not to be all gangster, but Dorinda said she is gangster. I think maybe she’s just mean. Tinsley said everybody knows her except Dorinda. Tinsley sits down in between Ramona and Leah, and says she only said she wanted to talk to Dorinda, and Dorinda said she was fake. In Tinsley’s interview, she says if she’s not talking, Dorinda says she’s hiding something, but if she asks for a private conversation, she’s fake. She can’t win. Leah asks, what’s going on? and Dorinda and Tinsley continue to bicker. In LuAnn’s interview, she says, she’s already been there, and the last thing she’s doing is inserting herself into this dog fight. She tries to switch seats with Tinsley, but Tinsley isn’t moving. Dorinda gets in Tinsley’s face, and tells her to shut her mouth. Leah asks if Tinsley is going to let Dorinda talk to her like that. Tinsley says she doesn’t care what Dorinda has to say, and Dorinda says, kindergarten is starting. In Leah’s interview, she says, Dorinda is like the snake in Beetlejuice, but scarier and meaner. Dorinda says this is boring her, and starts to walk away, but her heel gets stuck. Tinsley says, don’t trip (totally missing the opportunity to say, have a nice trip; see you next fall). Dorinda gets up close and personal again, and says her heel got stuck. The difference is, she bought her shoes. She didn’t lie on her back for them. She twirls around, but not nearly as well as Kenya, and walks away. Tinsley says, you’re a jealous bitch, bitch.

And away we go.

This season – parties, costumes, Ramona on a swing, Sonja falling, Leah says they’re all hot effing messes, LuAnn is back at cabaret, Tinsley wants to move to Chicago, Dorinda pretends everything is okay, LuAnn forgot how good vodka tastes, a trip to Mexico, a trip to a cornfield, revisiting the fish room, LuAnn swears she never screwed the pirate, and Dale wonders what’s wrong with her and Tinsley?

👨🏽‍🍳 On Top Chef, comedian chefs Ali Wong and Randall Park, who met during a fried rice competition where they went to school, gave the chefs their quickfire challenge of creating a fried rice dish, the winning chef getting immunity. The chefs had thirty minutes to make the best damn fried rice that was creative and inventive. Given a display table of ingredients, they were also to use at least one ingredient from the choices. You’d have thought they were going for rolls of toilet paper, the way the chefs grabbed the components they wanted. Kevin was the winner, using flaming hot Cheetos, hot dogs, and bourbon. I assume it tasted better than it sounds, since Ali said it was like a party in her mouth.

The elimination challenge was next, with the chefs going to the Getty Museum for inspiration. The challenge was to interpret a work of art on a plate, using four movements; baroque, neoclassicism, renaissance, and rococo. Since Kevin won the Quickfire, he got to choose first, and selected baroque. The rest of the contestants took knives from a block, each with a movement on it. After the museum, it was on to Whole Foods to shop for ingredients. Someone pointed out LOUD shoes, and I had to laugh, since I’d just mentioned that in the GH recap, and I wonder if it’s a thing now. The chefs were to tell a story through their choice of ingredient, and Ludo Lefebvre was introduced as guest judge.

Padma said they had some glorious, artful food, but had to choose one masterpiece. The winning spot went to Melissa’s won ton soup.

When the chefs on the bottom were called out, Padma told Karen that she ended up in the bottom because Kevin had immunity. In her interview, Karen made it clear how pissed she would be if she was out for that reason. She creeped me out a little during this episode. Not only did she practically hiss her displeasure about possibly losing, she most definitely glared at Kevin when he got the immunity in the first place. I also highly doubt had he not had it, he would have taken any chances. Joe said while the dish chosen didn’t lack artistry, it lacked the technique to present the artistry. Jamie had to pack up his knives and go for his dish being too dry. He said it sucked to leave this early, and wished he had delivered better cookery; there was no greater sin. His hope was in the Last Chance Kitchen, and to get back in the competition, doing the type of food he wants, the way he wants to do it. Next time, Kelly Clarkson is guest judge, and the chefs are challenged with a vegetarian menu.

General Hospital

I missed the first minute or so. Because I had extra time. Why that always happens, I have no clue.

Michael tells Nelle, he had the same condition as Wiley when he was a baby, and the same surgery. Nelle says the last time she checked, he wasn’t Wiley. Doesn’t elective mean he doesn’t need it? Monica says, it doesn’t mean it’s frivolous, and Michael says, Wiley will have a better quality of life. How can Nelle possibly object?

Laura visits Sonny, who asks if she wants coffee, while we’re totally distracted by the moss centerpiece. She says she wishes it was only a social visit, and he asks if he’s talking to the mayor, or is his friend in there? She thinks she can be both. As mayor, she’s there to ask for help; as a friend, she hopes he says yes. He asks what he can do for her, and she says, a new wave of drugs has hit the streets. He says she knows that’s not his business. He has nothing to do with that. She says, but he knows how it happened, doesn’t he?

At Rice Plaza, Chase tells Willow that he forgot his skates in the car. She says, it’s lucky Sasha, Michael, and Wiley aren’t there yet, and he leaves to get them. Willow leaves a message for Sasha, saying she hopes they’re still coming, and to call her back. Jason approaches her, and says he’s glad he ran into her. She says she is too. She wasn’t sure if she should call him. She had breakfast with her mom, and Harmony seemed nervous. And the way she was talking, Willow is worried. Jason says, she should be. Harmony is mixed up in something serious.

Sam asks Delores what she’s doing with Spinelli’s phone. Is he all right? Delores says, he’s in custody, and Sam asks, why? Delores says, before she sends him to lockup, she wants Sam to meet her in Queen’s Point, at a bar on the corner of Third and Main.

After running into Neil at the hospital, Alexis says their situation has been on her mind. Maybe she should find another meeting. Neil says she told him that she felt at home there, but she says, there are meetings all over town, and Neil’s office is there. He says his primary focus is on addiction recovery, which is why she was referred to him. She says, and look at where they are. He says they can handle it, and she says, like they handled meeting at the opera? He says they have to come up with a different strategy. As much as he knew about her, he never pegged her for a opera lover. She says she’s more of an enthusiast. She won’t buy a ticket, but she’ll go if she’s invited. He’s not sure if he believes that, and she says, keep calling her a liar, so it will dampen her regard for him. He says, it makes sense she would like opera, since she has operatic emotions. She asks if he’s calling her a drama queen, and her phone rings. He says, saved by the bell. It’s Sam, who says she needs Alexis’s help. Spinelli has been arrested. Alexis tells Sam to text her the address; she’s on her way. She tells Neil, it looks like she’s going to have to miss her meeting. She leaves, and Doc comes by. He asks Neil if everything is okay.

Sonny says Laura wanted him to clean up the waterfront; he thought they were on the same page. She says, a lot has happened since the shootout, and he says he’s done everything he can to make sure the situation didn’t escalate. She recalls a warehouse explosion, and he says, it housed an operation run by Cyrus. She says she can’t prove that, and Sonny says he’s just as concerned as she is about the drug problem. She says she knows he’s got guys out there, and that he’s reluctant to tell her what he knows. She knows about the code, and understands, but she needs him to understand that it’s not a battle if it becomes a war. If he can’t bring an end to this, she’ll have to step in, and come down hard on crime, and it might include him.

Jason tells Willow, Harmony is involved with some dangerous people. Willow asks, how? but he tells her, just be careful; keep her distance until this is over. She says, until what’s over? and he wonders if her mom has asked her for anything. Willow says it was all she could do to talk Harmony into meeting her for breakfast. Jason says, that’s good; it means Harmony is trying to protect her. She asks, from what? Is she involved in organized crime? He says he’s told her what he can. She says, sorry, but since he obviously knows what’s going on, can he look out for her mom? He says he’ll try.

Nelle says she researched Wiley’s condition on the internet. Sasha wonders if that makes Nelle an expert after five minutes, and Nelle says, Monica is a cardiologist, and can tell her if it’s right or wrong. It’s an elective surgery, which means it’s not necessary, right? Monica says, it means, at this moment, it isn’t an emergency. Michael says it’s a preventative measure to prevent Wiley from suffering more heart damage that could threaten his life. Nelle asks if that’s a fact or theory. It’s a risk she doesn’t think she wants to take.

Monica understands Nelle is scared. No parent welcomes their child having surgery. She says, Michael seems to. He’s ready to let them work on Wiley like a frog in a biology class. Sasha says, it could give Wiley a better quality of life, for the rest of his life. What’s wrong with her? How can she say no? Nelle says, why willingly expose Wiley to the danger of surgery, when he doesn’t need it? Michael says, what if he continues to have trouble breathing? What’s Nelle’s plan then?

Chase comes back, and tells Willow, it got hairy. There was a mother in a van with squabbling kids, who was parked dangerously close to him. He realizes she’s not listening, and asks, what’s going on? She says, Jason was just there. He told her that her mom is into something dangerous, and she should do everything possible to keep her distance. That shouldn’t be too hard, since Harmony has been pushing her away. Jason thinks Harmony is trying to protect her. Chase asks, from what? and she says, Jason knows, but won’t say. It’s freaking her out even more because he’s a mobster, or whatever the legal term is. Chase says, racketeering, and she says Jason has been kind to her, and he’s the one who got through to her mom. Now it sounds like her mom is into something more dangerous than Dawn of Day. He says he knows Willow is trying to see the best in her mom, since she turned her back on Shiloh, but he can see how she fell for Shiloh in the first place. Harmony seems fierce and strong… Willow says, but it’s not the first time she’s been taken in by something dangerous. She doesn’t think it’s about Harmony this time though. She thinks this time, it’s about her.

Sonny tells Laura, the situation is shifting, and Laura asks if he’s set something in motion. He tells her, all he can say is, steps have been taken to end this. His phone rings, and he steps away for a moment, but says, sorry. He thought it was Turning Woods. She asks how Mike is doing, and he says his dad doesn’t remember him half the time, but what he doesn’t let go of is bullets whizzing by his head, and hiding under the table in a pub in Bensonhurst, screaming that he wants it to stop. It’s haunting him. She says she’s sorry, and he says, that’s why this thing with Cyrus is going to end. Jason comes in, and asks if it’s official business. He can come back. Laura says Sonny was just reassuring her about the problem. She asks if Jason has anything to add, and he says he’s sure what Sonny told her is all she needs to know. She says, good answer. She’s surprised Sonny told her as much as he did. She tells Jason, don’t worry; Sonny wasn’t specific.

Neil shows Doc his new office, and Doc says, not bad at all. It’s good to have Neil there. Neil says he’s glad to be on staff, especially after that business with the board. Doc says he heard something was going on, yet here Neil is. It clearly worked out. Neil says, yeah, and Doc says, or not. Neil says Doc doesn’t know why he was under review? Doc says, Neil caught him. He understands Neil was accused of inappropriate behavior with a former patient. Neil says he’s sure Doc knows who it is; the rumor mill travels. Doc has a sneaking suspicion it’s Alexis.

Sam introduces Alexis and Delores, and Delores says, Sam brought her mother? Alexis says she’s not there in a parental capacity, but as Sam and Spinelli’s attorney. She’d like to confer with her client. Delores says, before she does, she wants to make sure Alexis is aware of their attempt to neutralize her. Alexis asks, how? and Delores says Sam sent her friend – Alexis’s client – to spy on her; to dig up dirt to leverage against her.  Alexis says, since they have Spinelli in custody, she can only guess it didn’t go well. Delores says, clearly his forte isn’t physical surveillance. Sam asks Spinelli if he’s okay, and he says only his pride is wounded. Alexis asks if Delores is suggesting Sam violated her parole, and Spinelli says he must speak. Sam had nothing to do with it. It was his idea, and she’s an innocent woman. Delores says, right. Whether Sam returns to Pentenville to finish her sentence is entirely up to her

Monica tells Nelle, it’s a simple procedure, but Nelle says, all she sees is Wiley under anesthesia with a tube in his mouth, and that in itself can have complications. Monica says, they have the best pediatric anesthetist in the state, and Nelle says, people can and have died under anesthesia. Monica says, mostly the elderly and the most vulnerable, and Nelle says, Wiley is a baby; he’s vulnerable. Michael says, with the exception of Wiley’s heart condition, he’s strong as an ox. Nelle says, what about contagion? and Monica says, they’ll do their best to keep Wiley safe. Nelle tells her, she’s read about doctors on the internet, who feel they have to prove something to get kickbacks. Monica says, the good news is, no one there has to prove a damn thing. It’s been proven just by them being there. If Nelle wants a second opinion, she has colleagues worldwide who will be glad to take a look, but Nelle says, they’ll just agree with her. Michael says, there’s a reason for that, and Monica says she’ll get Nelle the information anyway, and leaves. Sasha asks if Michael wants her to go, and Nelle says, that would be great, since Wiley is her and Michale’s son, not Sasha’s. Sasha says, she was asking Michael, and walks away. Michael ask Nelle, what the hell is wrong with her? She’s risking Wiley’s health; why? My suggestion: get Nelle off the internet.

Willow tells Chase, her mother said it herself; everything she does is for Willow, and how happy she was that Willow is with someone who can keep her safe. Chase says, he remembers, and she says, the only thing that makes sense is, someone is using her for leverage to make Harmony do things she doesn’t want to. Sasha calls, and Willow says she’s going to tell Sasha that they’re not in the mood for skating anymore. Sasha says she’s sorry; they forgot about the skating. Willow asks if something is wrong, and Sasha is afraid so. Wiley is in the hospital.

Doc says he saw Neil and Alexis earlier, and it looked intense. Neil says, it was; it always is. Doc says Neil had told him that he was having conflicting feelings for a patient. Neil says, and Doc told him not to cross the line, and he didn’t. Alexis stopped being his patient, but they’d run into each other, like at drag Bingo. Doc laughs, and Neil says, there was an impulsive kiss. They didn’t mean for it to go further, but the board got wind of it. Doc says, the two-year rule is for a reason. Neil says, it’s over, but Doc says, it didn’t look over.

Alexis asks what Spinelli was arrested for, and Delores says, unlawful surveillance in the second degree. She cites the code, adding that the victim’s image is taken when in a private moment. Alexis says, the peeping Tom law? and Delores says, it’s six-months in jail, and a fine of $1000. Alexis says, someone can only be arrested for that, if the video or photo catches the victim in the act of disrobing or having sex. So Delores can imagine what her next question is going to be.

Laura says Sonny isn’t going to give her any details, is he? and he says, no. He just wants her to know he’s concerned. She says, it’s not just a public safety concern for him, and he says, all she needs to know is that he’s keeping it under control. She says, okay. She has no choice but to take his word. He walks her to the door, and she leaves. Sonny senses Jason’s disapproval, and says Jason doesn’t think he should have said anything. Jason says he doesn’t understand why Sonny would give even a hint about what’s going on with Cyrus and Jordan.

Delores tells the cops holding Spinelli to go. Alexis says she’s sorry to have to ask, but when Spinelli photographed her, was she in the act of disrobing or sexual activity? Spinelli says it was an extracurricular activity, and they were in the back seat. Alexis says, one more word, and she’ll let him rot. Don’t speak; don’t breathe. She asks Delores, where were they? and Delores says she and the councilman were there to discuss a sensitive legal matter, and didn’t want reporters following them. Spinelli tells Sam that Delores was half-naked. Sam asks if he got a photo, but he says the car was rocking so much, any image was blurred. That’s when Delores and her lover apprehended him. Delores tells Alexis, her client as much as admitted his guilt. She can have him held until his sentencing, and he’ll be separated from his partner and daughter. Sam asks if Delores and Donald aren’t married to other people. If it goes to trial, that will come out, and be pretty embarrassing. Delores tells Alexis, as she sees it, Sam is clearly trying to blackmail her. She thinks if she threatens Delores, Delores will ease up on her parole, and allow her to see Jason. The terms of parole clearly state she can’t associate with a known felon. Alexis asks if there’s any way Delores will consider dropping the charges.

Delores says she might be willing to make this ugly incident disappear, and Alexis asks, in exchange for what? Delores says, Sam and Spinelli keeping silent about her relationship with Councilman Raskin. Sam says, and if she refuses? and Alexis tells her to quit while she’s ahead. Delores says, the councilman will face scandal, but Sam will be in Pentenville, along with Spinelli. Alexis asks Sam if she can do that. Then Delores will forget she was complicit in blackmail and extortion as well. San says, this is extortion, and Alexis tells her not to make it worse. Shut up and take the deal.

Michael says, Nelle just wants to make him suffer; that’s why she’s refusing to sign. She’s hurting his son to hurt him. She says, not everything she does is about him, and he says she tried to talk Chase into having him killed. She left him do die, and put someone else’s dead baby in his arms, claiming it was his son. Should he keep going? She says, this has nothing to do with him. She’s protecting her son. He’s not going to die any time soon. Give her time. He says she’s not a doctor, and she won’t have a say when she’s excluded in the custody arrangement.

Jason says, when Cyrus is released, Laura is going to realize it’s part of their plan, and when he turns up dead, she’ll suspect their involvement. Sonny says, so will everybody. Even if somebody else gets to him before they do, they’ll be the prime suspects, but no one will be able to prove it’s them.

Sam says, fine. She won’t breath a word. Delores asks if Alexis can guarantee Sam and Spinelli will abide by the agreement, and Alexis says, if they don’t, she’ll personally drop them off at the Queen’s Point PD. Delores says they both know where they stand, and she won’t be intimidated. She’s going to be even more vigilant. Sam says, it’s harassment, and Delores says, it’s law enforcement. Delores leaves, and Spinelli tells Sam that he’s sorry. She says it was her one shot to get out from under Delores’s thumb; now what? Alexis says that’s not the question Sam should asking. Sam should be asking, what the hell was she thinking?

Nelle tells Michael, the law is on her side. Even without full custody, she’s still Wiley’s mother, and has a say. She’s going to visit her son. She stomps off, and Monica asks if Michael made any headway. He says, not even close, and Sasha asks what he’s going to do. He asks what options he has. How much danger is Wiley in? Willow and Chase join them, and Willow asks, what’s going on? How’s Wiley? Michael says, okay at the moment, and Monica says she’s going to check on him. Chase asks, what’s the problem? and Sasha says, like usual – Nelle.

Alexis tells Sam, of all the insanely stupid things she could have done, it was a terrible choice to blackmail her parole officer. Sam says she was thinking she wanted her family together. Alexis says, she made a decision that almost got Spinelli arrested, and her sent back to Pentenville. Delores is going to be watching now, and will send her back if she so much as drives a car without a seatbelt, and it’s her right to do it. Sam asks if Alexis is agreeing with Delores, and Alexis says Delores is doing her job. When Sam was granted parole, the agreement said she wasn’t to associate with a known felon. Instead of following the rules, she did what she wanted. Did she think of Scout and Danny? Sam says, Jason is Danny’s father, and the closest thing Scout has to one. All she wants is her family put back together. Alexis says, that’s what will happen if she holds out for two years, but Sam says, two years is a long time. Alexis says she knows exactly how long it is, but it’s Sam’s job as a parent to stick it out and suck it up. Do what she needs to get through it. Sam says, of course (🍷) Alexis would say that, and Alexis asks what Sam means.

Michael tells Willow, even though he’s Wiley’s guardian at the moment, both parents need to consent to the surgery because it’s elective. Willow says, if it gets worse, how bad can things get? Michael says, in the worst case, Wiley’s heart will deteriorate, and he’ll need an operation to save his life. Willow says they can’t risk it. Wiley needs to have the surgery now. Sasha says, it’s more important than ever that Michael win sole custody. Nelle is suddenly there, and asks, who says Michael is going to win?

Doc asks Neil, concerning him and Alexis, what did they decide? They can make the conversation confidential by Doc treating Neil as a patient. There’s a knock at the door, and Neil says, hold that thought. Laura comes in, and Neil says if the mayor was looking for her husband, Doc is helping him break in his new office. Laura says, it’s a nice surprise, but she actually came to see him. He asks to what he owes the pleasure, and she says, Port Charles is facing a crisis, and she needs his help.

Sonny tells Jason, there can’t be any evidence; nothing that ties it to them. Jason says, there won’t be, and Sonny says he doesn’t think anyone is going to shed tears about Cyrus’s death; they’ll be relieved. Jason says, and Laura? Sonny says, she wants the problem solved, and they’re solving the problem. He’s going to bring peace back to Port Charles.

Sam says she doesn’t know what the hell happened to Alexis. It’s not the drinking, and it’s not Julian, but Alexis became a pushover who plays by the rules and refuses to fight. Alexis says Sam doesn’t know what she’s been fighting, and Sam says Alexis cooperated with the board when she could have questioned the system, so they would question it too. Alexis says, it’s not that simple, and Sam says, what about Neil? Is there a connection? Does he make Alexis feel good? Then why the hell not fight for him? Alexis says, it wasn’t an option, but Sam says, it’s too difficult. Alexis is afraid she’ll get in trouble. She was never scared before. She used to be persistent. She was Sam’s hero, but now she obeys the rules, and sits back. She doesn’t do anything Sam used to admire. Sam wanted to be like her, and now Sam just feels sorry for her.

Nelle tells Michael, it’s rare for the father to get sole custody, and he says, it’s not common, but it’s not rare. Willow adds, unless the mother is unfit. Nelle says she didn’t give her baby up, and Willow says at least she didn’t hand her baby to someone on the side of the road. Nelle says, as of right now, Wiley is healthy and happy, and she promised to protect him from anyone poking around inside him or harming him. Willow suggests, if Nelle wants that, stay away from him. Nelle says she’s going to do everything in her power to keep her promise, and protect her son. She walks away, and Sasha asks if Michael is okay. He says he’s not letting Nelle into Wiley’s life. She’s done enough to jeopardize his health. Willow says, he doesn’t have a choice. He needs to do whatever it takes to get full custody.

Jason tells Sonny, he ran into Willow, and gave her a heads up about Harmony. Sonny says, good. She helped Kristina, and he doesn’t want her in the line of fire. He doesn’t want anyone traumatized like his father is. Jason asks if Mike hasn’t recovered from what happened in Brooklyn, and Sonny says, the opposite. He’s been worse. Jason says he’s sorry to hear that, and asks if there’s anything he can do. Sonny says, when he was at Turning Woods, Mike was there with Brook, and he was having a great time. Brook said, when things are cloudy, the things he remembers mostly are about Sonny’s family. Not recent things, but old memories; ancient history. That’s what comforts him. Sonny’s phone rings, and he tells Jason, it’s Turning Woods.

Sam tells Alexis, she’s so sorry. She didn’t mean what she said. She’s really angry at Delores. Alexis is right; she was selfish, desperate, and stupid. She asks if Alexis accepts her apology, and Alexis says, of course (🍷). She just needs a little time. Spinelli interjects that the jalapeno poppers are on the way. Sam says, talk to her, and Alexis says she will, but not right now. She just needs space. Sam suggests she and Spinelli go home to their kids; they almost didn’t have them. Alexis says she’ll call Sam tomorrow, and Spinelli says, on behalf of Ellie, Georgie, and himself, he thanks her for her help. They leave, and Alexis stands at the bar. The bartender puts a shot in front of her, and says it looks like she’s having a hard night. He thought she could use a drink.

Neil asks what Laura needs him to do, and she says, Port Charles has a new drug lord in town, who’s flooding the streets with his product. She has to find a way to stay ahead. She’s talked with the heads of GH, and they’re going to open a clinic, his area of expertise. Doc says Neil’s reputation precedes him, but they did ask what he thought. Laura says Doc sang Neil’s praises about a seminar he gave, and Neil asks if he’ll be working with Laura’s husband. She says, that’s up to him, and Doc says, it’s not his specialty, but he’d be happy to help. Neil says, great. They can talk as soon as he puts an idea together for the clinic. He and Doc can catch up later. Doc asks if Neil doesn’t want to continue their discussion, and Laura apologizes for interrupting. Neil says they can catch up any time. He likes to give recovering patients the dignity they deserve. Laura says he’s just he guy she was looking for, and Neil leaves to talk to the head of the department.

Alexis remembers Sam saying she cooperated instead of fighting back, and the meeting with the board at Neil’s review. She thinks about Neil telling her that he doesn’t want to say goodbye to his career, or her, and wondering how they can pretend it never happened. She remembers saying that’s immaterial; he has his practice back. She downs the shot, as I say, nooo.

Tomorrow, Trina talks to Josslyn about Cameron, Carly says she’ll deal with Nelle, and Alexis asks for another drink.

🥙 On Top Chef tonight, there was no quickfire challenge. Instead, the chefs were to explore L.A.’s food scene, using the late food critic Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants of L.A. Less a food critic than food lover, Gold was the only food critic to have won a Pulitzer Prize, and his guide includes unique food trucks, mom and pop cafés, and ethnic cuisine. In the elimination challenge, the chefs were instructed to create a dish from anything that inspired them during their exploration – a dish they loved, a story they heard, or food they tasted. At the Union Square train station, they would be serving 200 guests who knew Jonathan personally, along with guest judge Ruth Reichl, a foodie extraordinaire. Tom said Gold wrote about what he loved, and if you cook what you love, you’ll make great food.

After their exploration, the chefs went shopping at Whole Foods, which was probably the last thing they felt like doing after all that eating. Being a close friend of Gold’s, it was an emotional challenge for Padma. Out of the top three – Kevin, Nini, and Bryan – Kevin was tonight’s winner, with a pork and mushroom terrine, involving his granny’s apple butter, which was a major hit with Ruth. He told the judges that he had a personal connection with the challenge, as he had spent a long time battling an illness, and didn’t know if he’d still be cooking, or even be there at all. He proved to himself that his journey wasn’t over. Ruth thought the bottom three – Angelo, Stephanie, and Eric – had forgotten food was supposed to be delicious. Ouch! Angelo had to pack up his knives, since his tuna crudo was overly sweet, and the components never came together. In Angelo’s interview, he said he thought his dish was balanced, but wasn’t letting his circumstances define him, as he moved on to Last Chance Kitchen.

Next time, the chefs visit a museum, and are challenged to interpret a work of art on a plate.

But I’d be remiss not to include a Top Chef’s passing. Please note, he had not only felt ill after traveling overseas, but went to the hospital, which oddly, can be the worst place for a sick person.

🍤 An L.A. Legend…

I’ve only been to Los Angeles once, for a V convention. Unfortunately, it was a first for the people who put the convention together, and we had little time to go to the bathroom, much less explore the city. But while I didn’t get to experience the food that the Top Chef contestants did tonight, one place I did get to eat at was Clifton’s Cafeteria, probably the weirdest restaurant I’ve ever seen. The food was fantastic, and incredibly cheap, so we ate like kings for a couple of bucks. Sadly, it’s since closed, but forever imbedded in my memory, will be the woodland scenes tucked into every nook and cranny possible, like some weird Disney show that ended up on the Food Network.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

General Hospital

Michael goes to the ELQ office, and asks to see Ned. Brook says, sorry. She doesn’t see him on the calendar, but she’ll see if she can find some time for him. Michael says she’s really good at this. She says if she’s going to spend the next five years waiting out her hella contract, she’s going to be the best assistant ELQ has had.

Carly tells Sonny, Nelle is so predictable. She did exactly what Carly said she was going to. She had her court appointed visit with Wiley, took a selfie to prove it, and came straight to the MetroCourt to wave it in Carly’s face. Sonny says, and…? and Carly says, nothing. She didn’t hit Nelle, or pull her hair out by the roots, although God knows she wanted to. Jason comes in, and Carly tells him, congratulate her. He asks, why? and Sonny says, Nelle tried to provoke her, but Carly didn’t take the bait. Jason says, good work; keep that up. Carly says, she’ll try, and asks if he’s there on business. She says she’ll leave them to it, but first, how’s it going with Brando?

At the gym, Brando hits the bag, and Spinelli asks if he minds if he cuts in.

Nina tells Jax, that’s it? Just no? He says, there are several reasons, and she says she’s not asking him to buy the Empire State Building. When she was otherwise occupied, Maxie stepped up. She went above and beyond for Crimson, and deserves a raise and recognition. Why can’t he give her the money she deserves?

Anna comes up behind Finn at the hospital, puts her arms around him, and says, hi, fiancé. He says he hopes that’s her, and she laughs. He asks how her appointment was, and she says her bloodwork is perfect. She thought she’d celebrate by going to the gym. He says, sounds terrible, and she says she wanted to talk to him about Violet’s birthday party. Has he done any preparations? He says he keeps making lists and gets stuck. How can he make sure his little girl’s birthday is perfect, when her mom’s not there to celebrate? Anna says just concentrate on her, her favorite things, her favorite color. She asks what that is, and he says, purple, obviously. Anna puts it in her phone and says she’ll order purple party decorations; nothing understated, the full swag.

Lulu says Maxie isn’t going to believe what Brook just posted on Facebook. Skootch. They sit closer together, and Lulu says, Brook just posted a video of her desk at ELQ. Maxie says they do that at Crimson for promotional stuff. It’s kind of cute Brook is excited. Lulu says, forget the cuteness. Look. Maxie gasps.

Peter comes in, and Robert says, working late? Peter says he is, and Robert says he figures Peter’s always got time for him. Sit a spell. He insists.

Carly asks Sonny how Brando likes the garage. Sonny says, he likes it okay. He wants to go back to Chicago, but understands he has to stay. She says, maybe once he settles in, and makes the garage his own, he’ll see Port Charles isn’t so bad. She’s taking a snack upstairs, where Josslyn and Avery are showing Donna The Little Mermaid; apparently, you’re never too young to start watching. Sonny asks Jason if he was right about Brando accepting that he has to stay there.

Brando instructs Spinelli, telling him, try to target his punches. Spinelli apologies, saying, despite his glove and attire, his skills are better served behind a computer. Brando says he can’t let his aggression out on a computer. (God knows I’ve wanted to.) Spinelli says, too true, and confesses he knows Brando, even though there’s no way Brando could know him. He introduces himself  to Brando, saying, Damien Spinelli at his service. He says he’s good friends with the Corinthos family and Jason, and he’s aware Brando saved Carly’s life. He’s deeply grateful. It must feel empowering to charge in to the rescue, guns blazing. Brando asks if Spinelli knows someone who needs rescuing, and Spinelli says, as a matter-of-fact, he does, but they refuse to be rescued. Hitting something makes him feel less helpless. He punches the bag again, sort of.

Maxie asks Lulu if that’s a confidential deal memo under the paperweight. Lulu says, you can actually read the fine print. It’s a merger between an ELQ owned company and Mertin Med Tech. One of the deal points is closing a local facility in Port Charles. According to Brook’s story, she’s the only one who has viewed this so far. Maxie tells her, a good person would call Brook before anyone else sees it, and Lulu says, what about a good reporter?  

Ned gives Brook some things to file, and sees Michael. He says it’s a nice surprise, and asks if Michael misses work that badly. Michael says he was running errands, and thought he’d bring Wiley by and give him a tour. Brook tells Wiley, if he takes over the company in the future, pay more attention to the aesthetics, and update the hold music. Ned tells Michael, Brook isn’t a fan of the music, and she asks if Michael has ever been on hold. The music is great for insomniacs. Michael says he never noticed, but maybe he can take care of it when he comes back from leave. She says maybe she’ll get to first. She tells Michael, better watch out. He’s not going to recognize the place when he gets back. Ned says it’s nice to have the whole family back in business at ELQ.

Robert approaches Peter at the MetroCourt bar, but Peter says he doesn’t have much time to talk; he has a deadline. Robert says, it must be nice to be able to work anywhere, like in an upscale restaurant. Peter says, it has its perks. Robert wonders what Peter is going to order, and says, there’s nothing like the taste of freedom. Peter asks Robert what his point is, and Robert says he just came from a meeting with Obrecht. Peter asks if she’s still claiming she’s innocent, and Robert tells him, she says Peter is the one who’s responsible for killing Drew, and sending the assassin after Andre and Franco. Peter says, it’s so sad, the lengths Obrecht will go to destroy him. Robert says he thought they had a truce, and Peter says, so did he. That’s why he hired her to write a column for The Invader. She had him fooled. She must have been trying to get him to lower his guard. Robert says, imagine if she’d framed Peter for her crimes. That means Obrecht would be sitting there tonight.

Anna goes over things for Violet’s birthday party with Finn; the guest list, balloons, games, party favors. Finn says he thought showering Violet with gifts would be enough. Anna says if he thinks this is too much, wait until they plan their wedding. He says, right, the wedding. She says it’s been almost a year since he gave her the ring, and they don’t have a date. It’s fine, but she feels like they’re dancing around the subject. She knows she’s been gone a while, and that didn’t make it any easier, but she’s here now. She’s happy he and Violet have moved back in. Finn says they’re happy too, and she says she was wondering if the three of them will be moving forward together. He says he thought that’s what they were doing, and she says, it is, but are they moving forward like they are now, or as a married couple?

Peter tells Robert, it looks like justice prevailed, and Robert says, it depends on your definition of justice. Olivia asks if Robert is harassing her customers again. He says only because it encourages her to come by and stop him. Peter says he has to get to work, and gets up to move to a table. Robert tells him, enjoy his meal. Olivia asks what she interrupted, and Robert says, it’s nothing to worry about. She asks if he has time for her, and he says, absolutely. What’s on her mind? She says, it’s been a month since she’s heard from the WSB. Does he have any news about Dante?

Nina tells Jax, Aurora has millions. How hard can it be to pad the budget to keep her best employee happy? Jax says he thought the reason of Crimson’s autonomy was to keep him away it the first place. She says, okay, Mr. CEO. Give her the money she wants, and she’ll leave him alone. He asks if that’s what it boils down to, and she asks what he means. He says, the reason he can’t give her the money is her.

Maxie tells Lulu, she’s not a fan of Brook’s, but reporting this could mess things up. Lulu asks why she should feel bad about that, and Maxie says, she wouldn’t just be messing things up for Brook, but for ELQ and the Quartermaines, some of whom are Lulu’s former in-laws. Lulu says, technically, she’s not doing anything wrong by reporting a data breach. Brook took the video, and if she didn’t want it to go viral, she shouldn’t have hit post. Maxie says, a lot of people they love work for and with ELQ, but Lulu says, none of them are Brook. Maxie says, it’s Lulu’s call. Lulu looks over at Peter’s table, and says, actually, it’s Peter’s. She’ll be right back.

Brook answers the phone, and says, Mr. Quartermaine is in a meeting. Can she take a message? She says she’ll totally squeeze them in asap. She plays with Wiley, who’s sitting in his stroller.

Michael asks if Ned has heard anything, and Ned says the contract was prepared, and sent out for Llewellyn’s signature. They’re keeping the merger quiet until it’s finalized. Michael says he doesn’t envy Ned when it goes public. Nobody is going to like the anticipated layoffs. Ned says he’ll spin it. It will be great news for the shareholders. Michael thanks Ned for picking up the slack. He obviously left the company in good hands.

Spinelli tells Brando, a woman near and dear to his heart has moved in with a dangerous man. Brando asks, how dangerous? and Spinelli says, he’s done despicable things, both in the past and the present. While the lady involved believes his criminal past is behind him, Spinelli knows he’s in as deep as ever. Brando asks if Spinelli has proof, but Spinelli says, he’s a master of deceit. Spinelli doesn’t know if he should respect her wishes, and leave them alone, or fight to protect her from harm and heartbreak.

Jason tells Sonny, Brando’s not happy, but he knows he’s not going anywhere. He had his first customer while Jason was there. Willow’s mom Harmony said she needed work on her car; a 2019 model, fresh off the lot. Sonny asks if he’s concerned, and Jason says he checked with Willow. Harmony is living in a halfway house, and working as an aid at Turning Woods. Sonny says, no way she could afford a new car. Jason says, at first Harmony was friendly, but then she got nervous. She said she was going to take the car back to the dealer, but he suggested she let Brando take a look. Brando said there was nothing wrong with car.

Lulu tells Peter, she knows finance isn’t her usual beat, but a deal between ELQ and Med Tech? It’s important to the local economy. Not to mention The Invader would be first with the scoop. He tell her, go for it. His phone rings, and he says, yes, of course (🍷). He’ll be right there. He tells Lulu, nice job.

Robert wishes he could help Olivia, but he doesn’t know Dante’s status or location. She says it breaks her heart that her son feels he has to lock himself away from people he loves to keep them safe. They never got a chance to hug him. Does Robert still want to help? Some people have forgotten him already.

Finn tells Anna, he’d like get to married, if she still wants to. She says, of course (🍷), with all her heart. He asks how she wants to do it? A big church wedding, or something simple? Paris? A county clerk? She says, mmm, Paris. Although with a county clerk, she can wear a suit and carry a spray of flowers; no fuss or anxiety is appealing, but she doesn’t think it would work for Violet. He supposes Violet would like something big and sparkly, and Anna says she might like that too. He says, then that’s what they’ll do. They kiss, and Anna asks if Finn has any idea how happy he’s made her. He says, if it’s anything like how happy she’s made him, he has a good guess. They kiss again.

Robert tells Olivia, he can try reaching out to a couple of friends; strictly off the record. She thanks him, saying she’d be so grateful. He says, don’t thank him yet. It could come to nothing. She looks at her phone, and says, Mary, mother of God. He says, bad news? and she says, you might say that. She has to take care of something.

Lulu goes back to her table, and suggests they talk about Maxie’s big news; her well-deserved promotion. It took Nina long enough. Maxie says she’s gone above and beyond for Crimson, and it’s nice to finally be compensated for it. Lulu says she deserves all this and more, and Maxie thanks Lulu for encouraging her to do it. She can’t stop thinking about all the projects, and the photo shoots she’ll get to arrange. Lulu says it calls for a celebration, but Maxie asks if it can wait. She has an idea to run by Nina. Lulu says, now? and Maxie says, no time like the present. Order the champagne, and she’ll be right back to drink it.

Sonny asks if Jason thinks Harmony brought the car to Brando because Brando is connected to him. Jason thinks it’s possible. Sonny owned the property for years. Sonny asks if she asked about him, and Jason says, she mentioned them, but it made sense, since Jason was there when she showed up. But there’s something he doesn’t like about it, so he went to talk to Willow, who said Harmony was distancing herself. His guess is, Harmony is into something shady. Maybe doesn’t want Willow to know, but whatever it is it’s connected to Sonny. Or he could be overthinking it, and Harmony got a loan for a car she couldn’t afford, and is hiding it from her daughter. Sonny tells him, keep looking. He needs to know one way or the other.

Brando says, it’s obvious Spinelli cares for his friend, and Spinelli says, more than words can express. Brando says, if Spinelli thinks this guy can hurt his friend, he should follow his gut. Spinelli says it could create conflict which might be a negative in his domestic harmony. Brando says, not as negative as someone dying, and Spinelli says, this individual thinks nothing of eliminating anyone who stands in his way. Brando tells Spinelli, he’s got to step up. Better she no longer talks to him, than no longer talks period. Brando’s phone rings, and he says he has to take it.

Nina says, it’s her fault? but Jax says he’s not saying it’s her fault. He’s saying if he gives money to Crimson, how will it look to the other departments? She says, because they’re sleeping together? He says, it would look like favoritism, and he doesn’t want anyone to thinking it’s a quid pro quo. She says, Maxie is a deserving employee, and he says if he could help, he would, but they have to keep their boundaries straight. Work is work, and fun is fun. She says, in that case, he needs to go. He asks if they’re fighting, and she says, oh yes, no, I don’t know. He needs to go, so she can figure out how to tell Maxie she’s not getting the raise she deserves.

Brook and Wiley are eating cookies when Ned and Michael come out. Brook tells Wiley they’re busted; she found them in the diaper bag. Ned asks, who’s answering the phone? and Brook says she can snack and answer the phone at the same time. She gives him a list of phone calls he needs to return, in order of importance. Michael tells Ned to keep him posted on the deal, and Brook tells Michael that Wiley is a wonderful assistant. Ned says, speak of the devil. Llewellyn is on the phone. He asks if Llewellyn got the contract, then says they didn’t post anything online… The Invader? He doesn’t know what Llewellyn is talking about. Michael’s phone dings, and Ned says he can’t hear Llewellyn. Olivia barges in, and asks Brook what she’s done.

Lulu calls ELQ, saying she’s from The Invader, and working on a follow-up to her post about the ELQ merger. She’d love to get Ned’s comments – or his daughter’s.

Ned asks how Brook could be so careless. That document represented millions to ELQ. Now that deal and the profits are gone. She says she was trying to give the company a little social media buzz, and he says, by posting confidential documents on the web? She says it was on her personal Facebook page. She never thought it would go viral. Michael says, it was an honest mistake; there was nothing malicious. Olivia says, that honest mistake cost ELQ millions of dollars. Brook says, tell her how to fix it, but Ned says, she’s done enough. They have to talk damage control – in private. Ned and Olivia go into Ned’s office, and Michael tells Brook that he’s blown his fair share of deals. She tells him not to try and make it better, but he says, Ned will take care of it. Tell Ned that he had to take Wiley home. Brook says she’ll watch Wiley. She’d consider it a personal favor if he cleaned up this mess for her. He hands her Wiley, and goes into Ned’s office.

Sonny gives Brando some coffee, and Brando thanks him for the garage set-up. It’s a nice shop. Sonny says Jason told him that Brando had his first customer. What did he think? Brando says if Jason filled Sonny in, he has nothing more to tell him. Sonny says he got Jason’s point-of-view, but he’d like Brando’s. Brando says, it was a new car, and there was nothing wrong with it. Sonny asks if Brando thinks she came to ask about him, and Brando says, it’s possible. He didn’t tell her anything. Sonny says he didn’t think Brando would, and Brando says he has nothing to tell. He knows Sonny set him up to keep him in Port Charles, and it wasn’t supposed to have anything to do with Sonny’s business. Yet Sonny’s business found him anyway.

Carly says she got Jax’s text that he needed to talk to her. What’s up? He asks if Josslyn mentioned their recent conversation, and she says, no; why? He says he offered Josslyn an extended vacation in Australia, and Carly says she suggested the same thing, but Josslyn doesn’t want to go. Jax says maybe they should reconsider. It might be a good idea for Josslyn to be on the other side of the planet for a while. Far away from the dangerous situation in Port Charles. She says he means far away from Sonny, and he says, yes.

Maxie goes to Nina’s office, and Nina says, perfect timing. She was just thinking about texting Maxie. Maxie says she has a great idea, and Nina says, that’s fantastic, but please sit down. Maxie sits, and Nina congratulates her, saying, as of tomorrow, her new title is Crimson’s senior vice president of creative marketing. She’s going to fly all over the world, meet fashion figures, oversee fashion shoots, and approve articles. Maxie says, and finally get the salary she deserves. Jax approved everything, right? Nina says, not in so many words.

Anna sees Spinelli at the gym, and asks about Ellie and Georgie. She asks how Ellie’s new job is, and he says she loves it, and Georgie loves her school. She’s made more friends already than he has in a lifetime. Anna suggests them getting together with Violet, and Spinelli says, if she’s suggesting a playdate, that’s a resounding yes. She says she’s planning a family get-together, and Maxie and Peter will be there. Jason comes in, and Anna says, perfect. She’d like to talk to both of them about Peter

Robert sees Finn at the hospital, and says, just the man he’s looking for. Finn asks to what he owes the pleasure, and Robert congratulates him on moving back in with Anna. Finn says, news travels fast, and Robert says he’s more concerned about Peter. Finn says he’ll always be concerned when it comes to protecting his daughter, but this was important to Anna, and evidence suggests Obrecht was behind Drew’s death and the attempts on Andre and Franco’s lives. Robert says, nice and neat, and wrapped up. He’d like Finn to do him a favor. Stay on guard when he sees Peter around Anna. Finn asks if Robert is asking him to spy on Anna.

Anna tells Spinelli and Jason, Peter and Maxie are living together, and Georgie is going to be spending time there. Children are susceptible to an undercurrent of emotion, so for Georgie’s sake, she wishes they would accept the fact that Peter has been exonerated. Dislike him if they want, but don’t treat him like a criminal. He’s not. Spinelli says he already had a conversation with Maxie on this topic, and he told her he’s doing his best to live and let live. Spinelli’s phone rings, and he excuses himself. He sees two unanswered voicemails from Maxie.

Nina tells Maxie that Jax can’t find money in the budget, and there’s no room to pay her what she deserves. It might be available next year, but in the meantime, she can give Maxie more vacation days, days to work at home, so she can spend more time with James and Georgie…  Maxie says, but no money for a raise. Nina says she’s sorry, and Maxie says she doesn’t understand. She’s done so much for Nina and Crimson. She’s covered for Nina so many times, and missed out on time with James. Nina says she understands, and understands Maxie deserves a raise. Maxie says, understanding it and making it happen are two different things, and walks out, Nina calling after her.

Lulu reads, Brook Lynn must be the most incompetent secretary in the history of secretaries – Clint Buchanan. She says, you got that right, Mr. B.

Coming out of the office, Michael says, Olivia will handle the press contacts, and Olivia says ELQ regrets the accidental publication of confidential documents, and is investigating the matter. Ned says he’ll get in touch with Llewellyn and smooth things over. Michael says they know where to find him. He thanks Brook for looking after Wiley, and she says, Wiley is a lot less judgy than some other family members. Ned tells Brook to get his PR team on the line. Never mind; he’ll do it. Hold his calls and order dinner. It’s going to be a long night. On second thought, he’ll order dinner. Go home and hunker down. She says she knows how to order dinner. She wonders what The Invader is doing on her Facebook page, and says, of course (🍷). Lulu Spencer. Why is she not surprised?

Brando tells Sonny, his mother lied, but he’s been transparent. He did prison time, but he’s cleaned up his act and made a good life. Anyone coming after Sonny, stands between him and that life. Sonny says if this is Brando’s way of asking how long he has to stay in Port Charles, he can’t answer that. It could be a day or a year, or somewhere in between. Brando says Sonny knows his history. If there’s anything he can do to help sort things out so they can move on with their lives, say the word.

Carly tells Jax, Josslyn agreed to be home schooled. She hired Josslyn’s favorite teacher as a tutor, and Josslyn can still be on the volleyball team. Jax says, with bodyguards, and Carly says, unfortunately yes. He says, she wouldn’t need a bodyguard in Australia, but Carly says, she doesn’t want to go. Jax asks if they can get real, and actually parent, and agree their daughter isn’t safe there. Carly says, it’s not perfect, but it works, and he tells her, stop putting a spin on it. This is no way for their daughter to grow up. She needs a normal life somewhere. Carly says, this is normal for Josslyn, but Jax asks if Carly hears herself. She already lost Morgan to mob violence. He’s not losing Josslyn to it.

Sonny says he thought Brando didn’t want to be involved in his business, and Brando says he doesn’t, but he seems to be involved one way or the other. If Sonny’s enemies come back looking for information, wouldn’t it be helpful if Brando tells them what Sonny wants? Sonny appreciates the offer, but thinks it’s best for all of them if Brando stays away from his business. Brando says he guesses that’s it then, and Sonny says, he’s afraid so. Brando says he’s going back to work. He’s got to earn his keep somehow.

Carly says how dare Jax use Morgan’s death to manipulate her; they’re done here. He apologizes, saying he was insensitive. He just wants to keep Josslyn safe. She asks if he thinks she doesn’t, and he says he knows it’s hard for her too. He doesn’t want to take Josslyn from Port Charles; he has plenty of reason to stay himself. But no reason is more important than their daughter’s safety. Can they talk as parents about how to keep their daughter safe? Carly says she wants things to stay the way they are, with them both monitoring the situation. They can figure out any changes they need to make together. If that means going to Australia, great. If it means staying here, great. But they need to make decisions for Josslyn together.

On the phone, Nina says, it could have gone better. Maxie didn’t take it well, and she could really use a friend.

Lulu asks Maxie how it went, and Maxie says, horrible. Lulu says she thought the promotion and raise was a done deal. She ordered champagne. Maxie says Lulu will have to drink it without her. She just got denied, and she’s going to get even.

Spinelli says, over his dead body, and jets. Anna says she knows Jason and Spinelli are good friends, and Jason has a tremendous influence over Spinelli; he admires Jason. She was wondering if Jason could soften Spinelli’s attitude toward Peter, but Jason says, he’s sorry. He can’t lie. He can’t pretend to believe something he doesn’t.

Robert says he wants Finn to stay on guard; nothing more. Finn says he wants to talk about Violet’s upcoming birthday party, and Robert says, he’s invited of course (🍷). Finn says, yeah, okay, but Anna also invited Peter. He wonders if Robert thinks he can be cordial for a couple of hours. Robert says he’ll try, but can’t promise anything. He tells Finn, eyes open.

Brook storms into the MetroCourt, and finds Lulu. She says, you bitch, and Lulu says she was just enjoying Brook’s Facebook post. Brook asks, how could she? and Lulu says she just reports news; Brook makes it. Publicly posting ELQ’s most top secret business plan? For a has-been, Brook sure knows how to stay relevant.

Tomorrow, Peter says he and Maxie are getting married, Nina asks if Maxie is entertaining other offers, and Anna asks Jason what it will take to convince him that he’s wrong.

👨🏻‍🍳 Top Chef returned tonight, and the chefs were in Hawaii for redemption. This season, previous contestants are returning to see how they’ve progressed since their last competition. The quickfire challenge was in three parts. First, the chefs had to break down an artichoke, and the fastest chef who did it correctly, moved on. The rest had to peel and separate and orange, with the fastest again moving on, and the last group had to shell twenty almonds perfectly – without a nutcracker. They then proceeded to split into three teams, with the three fastest chefs being captains, and were required to make two different dishes with the prepped ingredients. The one thing I learned, was that PFTS stands for, I got people for that sh*t, which one of the chefs said as he tried to break down an artichoke. I don’t, which is why I don’t make artichokes. Moving on to the elimination challenge, the chefs had to make a seafood feast on the beach, with no electricity or appliances – just their knives and their talent. They were to make three cohesive dishes, family style. Restauranteur Jeremiah Tower was guest judge, and pronounced Chef Gregory technically perfect as he got the winning spot. But poor handlebar mustache Joe (who I actually remember from a previous season) was out. As usual, all the food looked impressive to me, and I was craving blackened swordfish by the end. At this point in the game, there are too many people for me to even keep track of their names, but once they’re weeded out, I’ll be more detailed. It looks like a fun season, with the chefs going to Europe for the finale.

General Hospital

Taggert comes by Jordan’s office, and says he’s glad he caught her. Her phone rings, but she doesn’t answer. Curtis leaves a message for her to call him.

Anna brings Emma home, and asks if she’s happy to see snow. People say there are no season in California, but the seasons there are just gentler. They get real winter in Port Charles. She asks if Emma remembers the ice rink, and thinks they should go. They can rent skates. Emma asks if everything is okay. I have to add, Emma has grown into a gorgeous young woman now.

Finn tells Sam, he supposes a person can get desensitized. They’re used to risks to themselves, and don’t perceive how they can bring a risk to others. How do you get someone to listen who doesn’t want to? Sam supposes the person making the big mistake is Anna, and the mistake she’s making is about Peter.

Brad wants to see Lucas, and Carly tells him, take a deep breath first. He goes into Lucas’s room, and sees Bobbie by the bed. Lucas’s eyes are closed, and Brad says, oh no.

Laura opens her eyes, and Doc says, there she is. She says, sorry. She was so worn out from the visits from her children, she needed a nap. He asks if she wants visit restricted, but she says, no. Her kids needed her. They needed her reassurance. She can’t say she blames them.

Jason tells Michael, the shootout came from a drug trafficker with a long reach and a bad reputation; Cyrus Renault.

Sonny picks up the prison phone, and Cyrus says, Mr. Corinthos, we meet at last. Sonny says, Mr. Renault, and Cyrus tells Sonny, please call him Cyrus. Sonny leans forward and says Cyrus made a big problem for himself, and he’s not sure Cyrus can solve it.

Doc asks Laura, who wore her out more; Lulu or Nikolas? She tells him, it’s hard to say. Lulu is falling in love with Dustin, and isn’t sure what she wants to do. Nikolas is up to his neck in dysfunction with Ava, and doesn’t want to admit it. She didn’t have the heart to tell them that their mother had been shot, and was too tired to listen. Doc says, so she listened anyway. Jason walks in, and says he hopes he’s not interrupting. Laura says, not at all, and invites him in. She asks what she can do for him, and he says he’s just checking in to see how she’s doing. She says she’s fine, and Doc says she shouldn’t have been in that situation to begin with. Jason says, Sonny had no idea there was going to be an attack, and deeply regrets her involvement. Doc says, not as much as Laura does, and Laura asks if Sonny knows who’s responsible. Jason says, he’s working to address the situation, and Laura says, tell Sonny that she appreciates his concern. As his friend, she’s happy he and his family weren’t hurt, but as mayor of the city, she’s not about to allow Port Charles to be ground zero for a mob war. Whatever Sonny is doing to address the situation better not include violence or retaliation. Jason says she’ll pass on his message. He leaves, and Doc says he guesses she told him.

Cyrus tells Sonny, his only problem is with the Feds. They sentenced him to life without parole for something he didn’t do. Sonny says the Feds must like him. Why was he transferred to Pentenville? Cyrus says, bureaucracy works in mysterious ways, and Sonny says, not for him. He keeps what’s his. Too bad Cyrus didn’t think about that before he tried something stupid.

Brad says he knew it was too good to be true, but Bobbie says, Lucas woke up about an hour ago. Carly says, he’s sleeping, and Bobbie says, it’s part of the recovery process. Brad hugs her, and says he was so scared he’d lost Lucas. Bobbie says, when he was in a coma, Lucas wasn’t sleeping. His body was actively fighting to get better, and he’s exhausted. He’ll be in and out for the next few days. Brad says he’s not leaving Lucas’s side. He’s going to be there until he wakes up. Julian asks how long it will be, and Bobbie hopes not much longer. She’s going to check with the neurologist on his tests. Carly says she’ll take Wiley, and give them time together. She looks at Julian, and coughs, then says, or not. Brad tells Lucas, wake up, and Julian asks what he thinks he’s doing. They need to get their story straight. He told Lucas the truth before the accident. What is Brad going to say when Lucas brings it up?

Anna thanks Emma for taking the guest room. Violet saw Emma’s room, and it was love at first sight. She’s generous. Emma says she’s so excited to meet Violet in real life, and Anna says she’s just like Emma was at that age. She’s precocious, and loves to read, draw, do crafts, and play make believe. This morning, they were playing Avengers, and Violet was Captain Marvel. She was Nick Fury, and Peter was the bad guy. Anna tears up.

Finn tells Sam, he’s just talking; don’t take what he says literally. Sam is aware they don’t know each other well, but assures him that she can be trusted. He’s not the only one who thinks Peter is bad news. Robert is on his side. Finn says, that would be a first, and Sam says she promises Robert is determined to put Peter away.

Emma asks Anna if everything is okay with Uncle Peter. Anna wonders why she’s asking, and Emma says Anna seems like she’s trying too hard to be happy. She seems sad underneath, and there are tears in her eyes when she talks about him. Anna says Emma is perceptive. She should know better than to try and fool her. Emma says she doesn’t need to; what’s wrong? Anna says, it’s convoluted, with a complicated history that really should stay in the past, and not be dredged up. Emma asks if she’s talking about Peter, and Anna says she is. When Peter was younger, he didn’t always make the best decisions, but he’s done everything possible to make amends, and turn himself into a better person and make better choices. He’d prefer his mistakes were left in the past, but some people won’t let him. Emma asks, who?

Sam tells Finn, Robert offered to broker a deal. A new parole officer who’s less strict, so she can spend more time with Jason, providing they give him something big, something incriminating. Finn says, on Peter? and she says, yeah. She wants her family back together, and thinks they can help each other. If he has any damning information, he has to tell her. At least before Peter hurts Anna.

Sonny says he understands Cyrus’s strategy – go big or go home – but this time, it was a very public attack on Sonny and his loved ones. There was an attack in Brooklyn, and two in Port Charles. If it had worked, Cyrus would have been able to take over, but guess what? It didn’t. Sonny is still standing and Cyrus is twisting in the wind.

On the phone, Laura asks someone to have Jordan call her back asap. Curtis comes in, and says he’d offer to pull some strings to get her call through, but shouldn’t she be recovering? Doc says he made that point, and Curtis says, no luck? Doc says, not even a little. Laura says she has responsibilities, and asks what she can do for Curtis. He says he was about to ask her the same thing. She says she doesn’t know who’s behind the shooting that landed her there, but she intends to find out. Curtis says he knows she has her own security detail, but he’s more than willing to provide backup. She says, as much as she appreciates it, it’s not necessary. She has information that she wasn’t the intended target; she was collateral damage. Curtis asks how she can be sure, and Doc says, it was confirmed by an inside source. Laura says that’s why she needs to speak to Jordan. She saw Jordan and Marcus Taggert conferring the other day, and bets it has something to do with the latest flare up of mob violence.

Jordan says it’s good to see Taggert, and he asks how she’s holding up. She says, if he stopped by to get Sonny’s statement, they’re going off of what they received from the NYPD. He says he’s not there to bring Sonny to justice, and she says, sorry, Captain Ahab. Has he abandoned his quest for the great white whale? Spill. Why is he there? He says he got information on their friend Bob.

Chase finds Willow outside of Kelly’s, and she asks, how’s work? He says, pointless and frantic. Everyone is rushing around, but there’s been no resolution. They know the target, but don’t know who’s responsible. So far, they have no leads. What about her? He’s not so stressed she can’t tell him about it. He asks if she’s heard from Brad, but she says, not since he told her that he doesn’t want her taking care of Wiley. Chase says Brad’s husband is in a coma, and it’s probably misdirected anger. Give him time to cool down, and he’s sure Brad will reconsider making Willow Wiley’s nanny. If that’s what she wants.

Brad asks Julian, what’s wrong with him? and closes the door. Julian says, his son woke up, and he’s worried about something Brad said. Brad should be as well. He told Lucas that Wiley is Michael’s son. There’s no way in hell Brad is bringing Julian down with him. Lucas says Brad’s name, and Brad jets to Lucas’s side. He says, you’re awake. Apparently, Julian isn’t so concerned that he’s not willing to talk about this right in front of Lucas, asleep or no. What a jerk. I sometimes wonder if the actors ever tell the director, no; I refuse to even say this. It’s too stupid.

Curtis asks who Taggert is, and Laura says she thought he knew. Taggert was a detective at the PCPD a long time ago. He was actually in the trenches during the last mob war. Doc says Taggert left more than fifteen years ago, and Curtis says that explains why he doesn’t know him. Does Laura think the shooting brought him back? She says, possibly. She doesn’t know what other connection he’d have to Port Charles. Maybe Jordan. Curtis says, what about her? and Laura says, they knew each other from work; she bumped into them at the PCPD  the other day. Curtis says he’s headed there now. He’ll tell Jordan that Laura is trying to reach her. He suggests Laura try to pencil in recuperation between work. Doc says he hears that, but she says, no promises. Curtis leaves, and ponders a while in the hallway.

Jordan asks how Taggert got his hands on Bob’s records. They had to have come from Bob’s personal physician. Taggert tells her, don’t ask questions if she doesn’t want the answers. She looks through the folder, and says, just like Bob. He had two check-ups a year, and was a total hypochondriac. There’s no shortage of bloodwork, but no traces of drugs on his last visit. It was less than a month before he died, so he got addicted in a couple of weeks? It’s a stretch. Taggert says, there’s definitely been foul play.

Cyrus looks at the guard, who makes himself scarce. He asks Sonny if he follows football. Sonny says he loves it, and Cyrus says, then Sonny will understand his perspective. A preemptive strike is like a hail Mary pass. If the team scores, the player is a hero. If the ball is intercepted, he’s benched or fired. Sonny says, it’s not a game, and Cyrus says, it’s a negotiation.

Jason tells Michael that they’re doing research on Cyrus; how he works and who he knows. All they know is he’s in Pentenville for a Federal drug crime. Michael says he was running his operation from prison, and Jason says, that’s for Sonny to worry about. Michael says he wants to know what they’re dealing with. His phone rings, and he says he has to take it; it’s his grandmother. He listens, and says, wow. Thanks. He tells Jason, Lucas woke up from his coma.

Brad says he didn’t know if Lucas would come back to him, but he did. He loves Lucas so much. Lucas starts to sit up, but Brad tells him, take it easy; he’s been through hell. Lucas asks if his mom is there, and Brad says she’s talking to the doctors. Lucas says, they were in an accident? and Brad says, they were driving on Thanksgiving when the brakes went out; they don’t know what happened. He asks if Lucas remembers anything about being in the car or the accident.

Sonny says, Cyrus wants to negotiate? Cyrus says Sonny gets 10% of everything he moves through Port Charles. He guarantees no merchandise will be sold in Sonny’s location; he can keep the market to himself. Sonny says he’s not interested, but Cyrus says he should be. Every day Sonny refuses to allow Cyrus’s produce to move, it costs him money. He doesn’t care about himself; he’s rich enough. But if you don’t change with the times, the times will destroy you. So do they have a deal?

Willow tells Chase, she’d love to be nanny again, but she doesn’t want to get her hopes up. She was almost embarrassed at how important the job was to her. Chase says she has no reason to be embarrassed. She says, being a part of Wiley’s life is a big deal, but seeing him every day, maybe it was too much. He says, how so? and she says, maybe she was so happy being close to Wiley, she blurred the lines she put up when she chose adoption. Her phone rings, and she says, it’s Michael. She takes the call, and tells Chase, good news. Lucas woke up. Chase says, Wiley’s got his dads back. Willow looks at him.

Lucas tells Brad, he doesn’t remember being in the car, and Brad asks, what does he remember? Lucas says, he came home from work. Elizabeth got Terry to cover for him, so he could see Brad; he wanted to hash things out between them. That’s all he remembers. Brad says, that’s okay. None of it matters now. Lucas sees Julian, and says, dad? Julian says Lucas knows how to scare someone. He understands Lucas is still pissed at him about Halloween. There was no excuse. Brad says Julian has been his rock the whole time. He doesn’t know how he would have gotten through this without Julian. Lucas asks about Wiley, and Brad says he’s there, and lets Carly in. Carly says Wiley thought he’d never ask. She brings Wiley over to Lucas, and puts him on the bed.

Finn tells Sam, there’s something he wants to say. Her phone rings, and he tells Sam, she should take that. Sam says nothing is as important as what he was about to say. Finn says he’s sorry about her parole situation, but he’s got nothing to give her on Peter. He gets up, and her phone rings again. It’s Jason, and she asks, what’s up? He says he just heard her brother is awake.

Anna asks if Emma is sure she’s all right on her own, and doesn’t want Anna to drive her to see Epiphany. Emma says she likes the walk to the hospital, and wants to see the park, the library, Rice Plaza, and her old school. Anna says she’s a little young for nostalgia, but Emma says she likes to see places that were important to her. She can stop by the MetroCourt and say hi to Uncle Peter. Anna says they’ve become good friends, and Emma says, even though he’s miles away, he’s been a good uncle to her and Noah. She tells Anna not to listen to anybody. They don’t know Peter like she and Anna do.

Jordan says she knew Bob’s death was suspicious. They need to get the investigation reopened. Taggert says, it’s circumstantial, but she says if they give them Bob’s background, they’ll see it too. Unless… What if this has to do with what they did? They said they’d take it to their graves. He says, it looks like Bob kept his end of the bargain, and Curtis walks in.

Anna thanks Emma, who says the people who are judging Peter don’t know him like they do. They have to keep believing in him; he deserves their faith. Finn comes in, and says it’s a nice surprise. He’s impressed how Emma got there on her own. She says, it’s no big deal, and he says she’s a seasoned traveler. Anna says, she’s independent now. She’s going to see Epiphany on her own. She tells Emma to be back by dark, and if it starts to get late, call, and she’ll pick Emma up. Emma says she’ll give them plenty of time to… talk.

Lucas says, let him get this straight. He was in a coma longer than Sam served time for manslaughter? Sam says, funny. She’s glad he still has his sense of humor. Lucas says, it’s fully intact. Michael says, they’re happy he’s back, but not more than Brad is. Sam asks when he can go home, but Bobbie says they don’t want to risk moving him yet. They’ll keep an eye on him for a few days before he’s discharged. Julian asks Brad to step outside with him. They need to take care of some administrative work. In the hallway, Brad asks Julian, what’s up? Julian says they need to get their story straight now. Brad asks if he didn’t hear Lucas say he doesn’t remember, but Julian says, what if he does? Then what? Brad says, that’s a big if, and Julian says, it’s a big possibility. Brad thinks Julian should calm down and chill. For once, Brad feels like everything will be okay.

Jordan hugs Curtis, saying she didn’t know he was stopping by. He says he was visiting Laura, who’s been trying to reach her. Jordan guesses she’s been busy, and Curtis says, this would be…? She introduces Taggert, and says they go way back. They were colleagues during her stint at the DEA. Curtis asks if Taggert is still in law enforcement, but Taggert says he’s retired. Curtis wonders what brings him back to Port Charles, and Taggert says, coincidence. He used to live there, and he’s visiting old friends. He didn’t know Jordan was Commissioner. They just ran into each other today. (D’oh!)

Cyrus tells Sonny, he’s offering an olive branch, but Sonny says he doesn’t want peace; he wants Cyrus gone. Cyrus says Sonny is going to be disappointed. He has personal reasons for moving to Port Charles, and he’s there to stay. Sonny says, you never know. Cyrus is far from his base of operations. Accidents happen.

Finn tells Anna, Emma is great. Anna says she should have been more patient; she’s sorry. Finn says he should be apologizing. He was wrong. Anna says, okay, she accepts. She thanks him, and says things are a little strained between them. He says he can’t pretend they’re not, but he doesn’t want to be the guy who runs out when things get tough. She says, that’s not like him, and they kiss. He says there’s something he needs to tell her. He ran into Sam at Kelly’s. Sam and Jason are determined to find a link between Peter and the attempt on Franco and Andre’s lives. Anna says, Jason is relentless, and Finn says, Robert knows, and he’s working with them.

Cyrus tells Sonny, it’s true; prison is dangerous. But he has supportive friends. Sonny says he has friends in Pentenville and Port Charles too. He doesn’t trade in Cyrus’s merchandise, but he knows people who do. Unfriendly people, who can be expected to go against Cyrus. It could cost Cyrus his life. Sonny hangs up, and Cyrus smiles.

Jordan tells Curtis, today is the first time she’s seen Taggert in ages. (Double D’oh!) She can’t believe it’s been so long. She wishes he’d come at a better time, but maybe they can catch up before he leaves. He says he bets TJ is bigger than he is now, and she says TJ could give him a run for his money. Taggert says the three of them should do dinner, and Curtis says, that sounds nice. How long is Taggert there for? Taggert says he’s there for the time being. It was nice meeting Curtis. They shake hands, and Taggert says he’ll see them around.

Sonny calls Jason at the hospital, and Jason asks how it went. Sonny says they’re in for a fight. The son of a bitch isn’t backing down.

Doc supposes he can’t hide Laura’s phone and pretend it’s lost. Laura asks what kind of mayor she would be if she dodged the phone during a mob war. He says, Sonny is an old friend. Is she going to reach out personally and ask him to keep the peace? She says she’s sure Sonny would avoid it if he could, but she’s afraid whoever is responsible is forcing his hand. That means there could be more collateral damage.

Chase says, amazing, and hugs Willow. She says she’s thrilled. Lucas’s family must be over the moon. He asks if she wants to see them, but she says she doesn’t think it’s a good idea. She doesn’t want to intrude. Chase doubts it would be an intrusion, but she says she doesn’t want to cross the line. Lucas is out of his coma, and God willing, will recover, and things will get back to normal. He says, doesn’t she want that? and she says, of course (🍷), but she won’t have a role in Wiley’s life anymore.

Carly asks if Lucas is okay, and Lucas says he’s fine. She says she’ll take Wiley, but Lucas repeats, he’s fine, just tired. Bobbie says his body is exhausted, and Carly suggests they leave, and give the two men some time. She’ll bring Wiley back in the morning. Michael says he can take Wiley for the night, as long as his dads sign off on it. Lucas thanks him, and Carly gives Wiley to Michael. They all leave, except for Julian, who stands there like the jerk he is, with his arms folded. Lucas flashes back to vague memory of Brad telling him Wiley is Lucas’s son. Brad asks, what is it?

Tomorrow, Nina tells Valentin that they have to move on from each other, Lucas says Brad was working up to a confession, and Nelle accuses Michael of bringing her there to kill her.

🎩  On Project Runway, Victoria decided she wanted and deserved to be there. I didn’t get a vote, so there she stayed. We found out the tuxedo was named in 1886 after Tuxedo Park, a place for the rich and elite. No surprise, Billy Porter’s tuxedo gown was talked about as modern, innovative, and a reinvention of the tux. The designers were challenged to show a modern take on an old classic. They were told that use of satin was what made the difference between a tux and a suit. That was news to me, so now I’m going to have to check that out. Christian said they weren’t monsters, so help had been brought it – the designers who’d already been eliminated. The eliminated contestants chose who they wanted to work with, in order of how their names were drawn. Jenn chose Brittany; Tyler picked Delvin; Melanie wanted Geoffrey; and Veronica went with Sergio, after saying in her interview that she’d never work Victoria. Chelsey selected Nancy; Alan had a mental blackout, and went with Victoria; and Shavi was left with Marquise. Since there was one extra eliminated designer, Asma was left to go get a cab home. (Not really. I don’t know where she went.) The designers had their choice of male, female, or non-binary models, since tuxedos are for everyone. Sorry, not me. I can’t imagine a tuxedo on my short self. I would look like I was playing dress-up. In his interview, Alan said Victoria was a solo designer, and didn’t work well with others. She barely works well with herself. For the two-day challenge, they were given a $600 budget, and 30 minutes at Mood. By the first commercial, Victoria was telling Alan to shut up. Delvin went for powder blue material until Christian was like, um… and he switched to an emerald green with a print for the lining. Geoffrey decided on a jumpsuit, saying the judges vibed on them. Victoria went with a gown, and Sergio, a backwards tux, saying he was thinking outside the box. This was a puzzling statement, since even I know that’s been done before.

Everyone got a night out at a rooftop bar, and the next morning Sebastian, winner of season 17, brought breakfast. He said the competition had changed his life, with the CFDA helping him launch his first collection, and finding him buyers. His advice for everyone was not to look at the other designers – in other words, don’t compare – and to go with their first idea. Geoffrey was very weepy during his interviews, and unsure of what his next move would be. Victoria said she only wanted Alan for moral support, and wouldn’t really let him help. He mostly did things like get water for her. Christian told Geoffrey to reassess the details, and he decided to streamline. After sleeping on it, Brittany decided she didn’t like the grey color scheme she’d chosen, and opted to change the design rather than make something she wasn’t proud of. For the outside of the jacket, she used the print she’d originally meant for the lining, and created black shorts to go with it. Nancy poached Tyler to use as a model, since he was the same size as hers, making Delvin extremely irritated. In Victoria’s interview, she groaned that Nancy kept doing the same silhouette, even though that’s exactly what Victoria does. Asymmetry mean anything to her? Marquis said he was getting his inspiration from the military – he’d been in the ROTC in high school – and wanted his design to be crisp and clean.

Delvin, Brittany, and Victoria were trashing Nancy, saying her tux looked like a glamorous garbage bag. Unbeknownst to them, she wasn’t far away, and heard every word. I laughed when Delvin realized; his face was priceless. Sergio told her that it was their problem, not hers. In Sergio’s interview, he thought all they saw was her age, but she would sneak up on them. While Nancy was on the buttonhole machine, it broke down, and Delvin said that was the second time Nancy had been in his way. That’s like the millionth time he’s been a jerk. Christian said they didn’t have buttonhole machines in his day, and he did okay. In her interview, Brittany pointed out that Sergio’s backward tux was a direct copy of Celine Dion’s iconic look.

The guest judge was Thom Browne, three time CFDA designer of the year. Brittany was a stand-out, but for all the wrong reasons. She should have stuck with the grey palette. The jacket wasn’t awful, but the lapels were weirdly thin, and the shorts were horrifying. At this point, I figured she was on her way out, even though I desperately wished it was Victoria. I don’t like her, and wouldn’t want to work with her, or even know her. Unfortunately, Victoria somehow whipped together a gorgeous jacket with a long, asymmetrical skirt that revealed a sparkly garter – the one thing she let Alan do. Karlie said the model looked like a sexy villain in a Bond film, and thought the whole show was amazing.

The judges felt Geoffrey’s jumpsuit was minimalist, and he stayed true to the challenge. On the other hand, Nina said she didn’t get tuxedo from Delvin’s look, and Brandon said it looked like a leprechaun in a corset. Personally, I didn’t think it was that bad, but I agreed with Sergio, when he leaned over and told Nancy, karma. Thom said the look was too safe. Victoria got high praise for combining feminine and masculine details, boosting confidence and power, while still embracing femininity. Everyone loved the open back that had a satin strip running down the middle. Nina thought Marquise’s tux made his male model look regal and powerful – I have to add here that his model was super-hot with a bangin’ bod – and Brandon said Marquise let his ideas fly; he just needed help anchoring and executing them. Thom said he loved male cleavage, by which he mean a show of the ankles. I actually thought, flood pants, when I saw it, but okay. His tux had a horizontally pleated jacket, with a pant/skirt combination, and Thom said he would have pleated the skirt. I agreed, nodding my head, like Thom cares. Brittany was mortified from the jump, and said she’d never done menswear. Karli’s face was like, WTF? and Elaine said, it was hard to look at; there was so much wrong. She was shocked it was Brittany’s design, and said, it was like a douchey Hamptons party look. (Ha-ha-ha! They probably would wear that on Summer House.) Brandon said, it was a mess, and I thought the whole thing was just sad. Thom said the proportion was the hardest thing for him to take, and if she was going that way, she should have gone even shorter, and pushed the limit. Sergio – who needs to either get it together with his causes or stop throwing them in there – said he went with the backward thing because of the state of the country. Everyone thought they knew where he was going, but he did a 180 by saying we should go back to the 1950s, when everything was better; a house was affordable, and a family could live on one income. Granted, he’s right there, but Elaine pointed out that the 50s wasn’t a great time for people of color. She told him that his messaging was frequently off, and he should stick to fashion. Because somebody had to, Nina brought up John Galliano’s backward tux that Celine Dion wore to the Academy Awards. Sergio claimed he’d never seen it, and absolutely no one bought that. Nancy got all excited about her sleeveless print tux, and babbled endlessly. Brandon said he wished he could do interviews that way. People asked what his inspiration was, and he’d say he didn’t know. Thom said it didn’t speak tuxedo to him, and thought she was playing it safe. Nobody seemed to like it very much, which surprised me. It wasn’t anything I would wear, but I thought it was something different, and looked terrific on the model. The judges were so negative, at this point, I worried about Nancy being out.

The judges deliberated, and Sergio, Marquise, Geoffrey, and Victoria were on top; while Delvin, Nancy, and Brittany were at the bottom. Brittany’s placing was obvious (they were all like, what the hell?), but the judges said Delvin had too many things going on, and Nancy’s tux wasn’t anything they hadn’t seen before. Karlie thought the brocade was overwhelming, and she was underwhelmed with the design.

Marquise was the big winner, the judges saying his garment was well-tailored, and that he’d reinvented the tux. He had the confidence and ability to extend and challenge himself. He said it was an honor to be able to come back and prove his worth. In his interview, he was especially honored by Thom’s approval, and was thrilled he got to show the judges why he shouldn’t have been eliminated. It is pretty cool that he got brought back, and then won a challenge.

The judges said the bottom three missed the mark for different reasons, but one look was a clear failure. I knew then, Brittany was out. She looked miserable. Delvin was crying, but I’m not so sure it was for her. I’d hoped it was because he was humbled after trashing Nancy, but it was probably because he just escaped by the skin of his teeth. Brandon told Brittany, it was painful to see her go, but sometimes a devastating thing brings you back to life. He suggested she use it to propel herself to other great things he knew she was capable of. Through her tears, she said it had been an honor to be there, and she looked up to all of them. It had been a crazy ride. She got a Karlie hug, and in her interview, said she disappointed the judges and herself. She had thought she’d be in the finale. I thought Sebastian was right in saying you should go with your first idea.

While backstage, Brittany bemoaned there being nothing to be happy about or proud of with her tux look, Christian made his usual appearance to gently tell the loser it was time to clean up their space. He told Brittany, he was so sorry. She’d have to endure this a little longer. It was the Siriano Save, used at last. He said he thought she’d lost her way, but she was talented and her work was amazing, so he wanted to save her. We saw a clip of Christian telling the judges about his decision to save Brittany, and the judges being all happy. In her non-exit interview, Brittany said she had to show she was worthy of Christian’s save, and not let him down.

Next time, a tie-dye challenge, and Leslie Jones is the guest judge. I love her!

General Hospital

Ava sees Doc. She says, Kevin? She slaps him, calling him an SOB, and saying he killed her daughter.

Andre sees Anna at the bar, and says, long time no see. Anna hugs him.

At the hospital, Drew tells Kim that Oscar is doing well. Terry said it will take another few hours for the tests to be done, so does she want to grab dinner? She says, no thanks, and he asks how she’s holding up. She tells him that she was thinking about how many times they moved. Each time, she tried to cozy it up and reflect what Oscar was into at the time. She was thinking, barring a miracle, this may be the last room he’ll be in. Shiloh appears, and says he doesn’t know about that. Miracles are more common than they think.

Sam is on the phone at Charlie’s. She says Daisy is the one who recruited Kristina. The way she was acting, Sam thinks the tattoo is tied to DOD. She says, a palindrome? Go ahead and explore. Kristina and Molly come in

Finn asks if Alexis would care to join him for a bite. She’d love to, but she’s meeting her girls at Charlie’s. He says she just had a dream about Julian that nearly drove her to drink. Does she think that’s wise?

Willow knocks on Chase’s door, surprising him. He thought he was picking her up at home. She was ready early, and figured she’d come to him. He says, and what? She says, and this, and kisses him.

Lulu can’t believe what Laura has been through. Laura says, what all of them have been through. The most important thing is that they’re all okay now know. Lulu says no wonder Doc was acting strangely, but now Laura’s real husband is back. They can pick up where they left off.

Chase says Willow is full of surprises. She’s just as surprised. They’ve both been busy since Valentine’s Day, and they’ve texted, but it’s not the same as seeing each other. She doesn’t want him to think she’s losing interest. He says he’s not either. He enjoys spending time with her. Since she’s early, why don’t they ditch the car and walk through the park. She likes the idea. They leave, and it starts to thunder.

Alexis tells Finn that her daughter works at Charlie’s, and the girls want to meet there. He says she’s forgetting he knows her. She asks if he’s questioning her wisdom, and he says, isn’t she? She says, always, but she’ll be fine. He says he’s not above telling her I told you so. She’s not surprised.

Andre asks how Jordan is doing, and Anna says she’s stable. She’s recovering, but will need a transplant eventually. Andre says he got tested, but he’s not a match. He’d hoped to have good news when he saw her. Jordan is so strong and active, he can’t imagine how hard it is on her. Anna says she’s determined to triumph, and will be happy to see him. He says she wanted to talk about something else that she didn’t want to discuss on the phone. He asks if it has anything to do with his memory transfer work. She says it appears she was an unwilling participant In the study that laid the groundwork for his.

Drew asks what Shiloh is doing there. He says he heard Oscar took a turn for the worse. He reached out to his DOD family, asking about alternative types of healing. Kim remembers when Daisy was there, and placed her hands on Oscar’s head. She asks if it was Reiki, and Shiloh says they don’t label it. It’s specific to their seminars, and has to do more with the power of positive thinking. He asks if there’s anything he can do. He’d like to help, given his and Drew’s history.

Molly asks about the phone call, and Sam says it’s just a case she’s working on. It’s not important. Kristina tells her not to dismiss her work so lightly, and Molly says Kristina is really getting into those self-help classes. Sam says she has no idea. Molly is glad they’re getting together, and says she’ll grab a table. Valerie comes in, and says she’s glad Kristina is still there. She was hoping to talk. Kristina says she can’t; she’s having dinner with her family. Valerie doesn’t like how it ended. It escalated quickly, and she’s sorry. They’re friends. They don’t have to agree on everything Kristina is into, and she doesn’t get DOD, if that’s okay. Kristina says, actually, it’s not.

Alexis asks how Laura is. She says they’re all fine, but wants Alexis to know that Ryan switched places with Doc on Labor Day weekend. So whatever dealings she’s had with him since then, were with Ryan.

Ava wants Doc to burn in hell. Scotty grabs her, and she says she wants him dead. He tells her, that’s Doc. Ryan is gone.

Valerie asks Kristina why they can’t make it right. Kristina isn’t sure if they can, or if she wants to invite that kind of energy into her life. She needs to be mindful about who and what she lets in. Valerie says she’s known Kristina longer than her self-help guru Shiloh. What is she talking about? Kristina says, her. She has no room in her life for people who aren’t completely supportive about what she wants in life. It’s easy to dismiss what you don’t understand. Kristina says her guru is honest above all else, and Valerie isn’t even honest with herself. Valerie says she doesn’t know what Kristina means, and Kristina says she thinks Valerie does.

Shiloh knows it’s not their cup of tea, but wants to do what he can to help. Drew saved his life, and he hasn’t repaid the debt. Kim thanks him, and says she’s seen firsthand the benefits of spiritual medicine, but they’re past that point now. Shiloh understands, and asks them to tell Oscar that he stopped by. Drew says, sure. Shiloh says he knows it must be painful for Drew not to remember his past, but the man he’s become is a man Drew should be proud of.

Andre tells Anna, when he took the project, the DVX gave him the records from the previous project. There wasn’t much. Some data, and a good serum that proved useful. All of the subjects were referred to by number. He had no idea she was one of them. Anna believes him. He wonders why she never told him before, and she says she didn’t remember; she was drugged. He asks what he can do to help. She says Cabot said some of Alex’s memories may have been transferred to her. She wants to know if that was indicated in the bios given. He says it’s been a long time. He can’t recall any details, but might have something better.

Alexis tells Laura, she only had one session. She thought he was acting weird because she was representing Laura in the divorce, then he dropped her. Laura thinks the divorce is the only reason she’s alive. Lulu says he could have killed her. Laura says, poor Ava. She has so much to sort through. Alexis says they need to discuss the divorce, and Lulu says, it can’t be valid. Alexis says it’s probably already in progress, but she’ll handle it. They’re as married as ever.

Molly tells Sam that she recognizes Kristina’s body language. She’s anxious about something. Valerie tells Kristina that she’s throwing their friendship away for a bunch of people she just met. Maybe she should reexamine her priorities. Kristina says maybe Valerie should figure it out. Valerie asks why Kristina is so insecure, but Kristina says Valerie is. She can’t have this negative energy in her life. Valerie says maybe she’s right. The friendship has been one-sided for a while. She’ll see Kristina around. Or maybe not. She walks out.

Sam asks Kristina, what happened? Kristina says, nothing. She’s just wedding out the toxic relationships in her life. If people can’t respect the choices she’s made in life, they can’t be in it. Molly says, zero tolerance If anyone annoys her? She’s glad Kristina and mom had a meeting of the minds.

Alexis suggests Laura get her lawyers and public relations people in the forefront, before the story gets out. She’ll need Laura and Doc to sign something. Laura says she has a lot going on right now. They haven’t even recovered the body yet. Alexis says to let her know, and leaves. Lulu says, now that it’s just them, why is Laura in no rush to invalidate the divorce?

Chase and Willow come back to his apartment, drenched. Chase says there’s no way he’s sitting in a restaurant soaked. She says he has his wardrobe at his disposal. He says he’ll throw her clothes in the dryer. She can help herself to whatever she finds.

Doc tells Ava to look at him. He’s Dr. Kevin Collins; not Ryan. Ava asks how she knows it’s not another game? Scotty says he talked to Kevin when she was Niagara Falls. He checked into the hospital, when Ryan went over the Falls without a barrel. Doc shows Ava his wristband. She says she’s sorry. Scotty sits her down, and Doc says he realizes it’s hard to unpack. He asks for a moment to talk. Scotty asks if he’s out of his mind, but he says, just a moment alone. Scotty says, okay, and Ava glares at him.

Lulu asks if Laura thinks Ryan survived. Laura says he didn’t die, and managed to get out of the explosion. He left the country, and worked for the DVX until his mental health deteriorated. The DVX reached out to Doc, telling him to pick him up, or they’d kill him. Lulu says, so he went to get him. Laura says he put Ryan in Ferncliff under an alias. He treated Ryan secretly for months, and Ryan eventually overpowered him and took hsi place. Lulu says, if he had notified the authorities, they would have known when he started acting so bizarre. Someone would have realized it. Laura says, none of it had to happen. She understands Doc wanting to help his brother. but the secret went horribly wrong. There was always the possibility he would escape. Because they believed he was dead, no one questioned that Doc wasn’t Doc. The worst part is that he kept it from her; for months. She doesn’t know how to deal with it. Lulu thinks they’ll work it out.

Chase builds a fire. Willow comes out in an athletic jacket worn as a mini dress. Very mini. She hands him her dress. He tells her there’s an open bottle of wine, and to help herself.

Ava hopes she didn’t hurt doc. He says he’s endured worse in the past few months. He’s sorry for what Ryan did. Laura told him how Ryan deceived her, and got her to fall in love with him. She’s hurt, and he understands. Ava says he can’t understand how she feels; what she’s been through. Doc says they’ve both been violated. Ryan came into her life under false pretenses. He stole Doc’s life; corrupted and perverted it. She’s not interested in hearing his pain or bonding over it. Amy comes by, and tells Doc that she can’t find his wife, but can help discharge him if he’s ready. He says, in a minute, please. He tells Ava to talk to someone. Not him obviously, but he can help her find someone she can trust. Ava thanks him for his concern, but opening her heart up is how she got in this mess. She has no intention of making that mistake again.

Kristina says Valerie was undermining her goals, and she had to detach. Sam says she doesn’t have to be so quick to cut someone out of her life. They’ve been friends for a while, and DOD is new to her. She has to respect that Valerie has reservations. She can’t tell Valerie how to think or feel. Kristina says she doesn’t have to respect Valerie’s reservations. Molly says she would hate if Kristina did the same thing to them if they have questions. Kristina says, they’re family; that’s different. Sam has been supportive. She looks at Sam and says she knows Sam is into self-help. Shiloh was so impressed with her, he showed her something he only shares with his prize students. The place where he had his first awaking. She’s jealous. She pretends to be joking, but we know she really is. Molly thought DOD was just volunteering and self-help. Alexis arrives, but Sam gets a text, and says it’s from a client. She has to leave. Kristina guesses the case is more than not interesting. Sam admits it’s important, and jets.

Kim punches the pillow, and Drew says he thinks it’s been fluffed within an inch of its life. He asks if it has anything to do with Shiloh. Kim says she’s a believer in alternative medicine, but she can spot a charlatan a mile away. She knows they were close at one point. Drew says he only has Shiloh’s word on that. Shiloh says he’s not the man he used to be, but clearly, neither is he.

Finn joins Anna and Andre. Anna tells Finn that Andre thinks he has something useful. Finn thought the only copy of his notes was on a flashdrive that was destroyed. Andre says he got rid of everything else regarding his project, but not Cabot’s data. He shows Finn his laptop, saying he accessed the files on his private server. Anna asks what she’s looking at. Finn says, if he’s reading correctly, the notes suggest that memories were transferred from Patient Two to Patient One. Ann says Alex and her.

Sam walks into DOD. It seems empty, and she looks around. She asks if anyone is there. Her phone dings. It’s a text, along with a picture of the tattoo sketch, saying, haven’t found anything. Are you sure your sketch is accurate? Shiloh comes out, shirtless.

Kristina says Sam has been on edge since she and Jason called it quits. Molly asks why Alexis was at the hospital: is everyone okay? Alexis says she’s fine. Molly asks if anyone is suing for malpractice, and Alexis says, no, but she supposes it could happen. Kristina says she’s talking in riddles. Alexis knows they’ve read about Ryan, but it turns out there are a few more details. He switched places with Doc last Labor Day. She went to see a serial killer for therapy, but only one session. Kristina says that’s why talk therapy isn’t the answer. Alexis should come to more group classes. Molly asks if Kristina is for real. Their mom just said she was alone with a serial killer, and Kristina turns it into a pitch for self-help. Kristina says Shiloh taught her it’s dangerous to rely on someone else for your breakthrough. People are fallible. You have to go through it on your own. Molly asks if Shiloh is infallible. Alexis – in a how about them Mets? moment – says she has a new therapist. He’s good. Kristina says she’s welcome to her own choices.

Chase tells Willow that his culinary efforts begin and end with a meal prep service. He hasn’t graduated to shopping himself, other than cereal and frozen food. She’s in the same boat. She says she can make three things. After that, it’s salad or take-out. He asks for a literal rain check, if she wants. He’d like to spend more time with her. She was worried she’d scare him off with all her baggage; how she gave up her son. Chase says she has a life. They all do. He thinks she’s brave to open up , and appreciates her confiding in him. She says she never feels like he has an agenda. He hates to disappoint her, but he does. He likes her, and wants to spend more time together as a couple, and see where things go. It’s something she wants very much. They kiss. The dryer timer goes off, and he says he’ll get her clothes.

Andre tells Finn and Anna that he sent the files to them. Anna asks how she’s going to decipher them. Finn says he can try, but like Cabot said, it’s hard to quantify memories. Obviously, the data must be somewhere. Anna wonders which memories are Alex’s and which are hers. Andre says anything that was noted in any way should be in the records, but he thinks Cabot focused on relevant data. He wouldn’t have recorded what the memory was. He would have focused on it physically affected them. Anna says it’s not just data; it defines her. Some of her memories could be lies, and she has no way of finding out which ones they are. Finn says Anna might not know, but there’s someone who does. Anna says, her sister, and he nods.

Chase says Willow’s dress is a little wrinkled. He can iron it. She says, he has an iron? He tells her the department frowns on rumpled, unkempt detectives. She thinks she can stand the shame of wrinkled clothes long enough to get home, but thanks him for offering. I’m wondering why on earth they can’t still go out to eat. Or order in. Maybe they should be going to meetings with Alexis. All they ever end up doing is drinking.

At the hospital, Amy tells Doc, there’s his wife. She’ll grab a wheelchair. She’s sure he’s anxious to get home. Doc tells Laura that they’re letting him go home. That is, if she wants him to come home. She doesn’t think it’s a good idea right now. He understands. She says she’s glad he’s feeling better, and can’t walk away fast enough.

Ava a poster on the wall with Doc’s picture on it. She rips it down and tears it up. Scotty grabs her. She says, all those months; all those lies. Her Kiki. She sinks to the floor, as Scotty holds her.

Kim tells Drew that Oscar talked to Shiloh. He knows what that means. Drew says, Oscar is looking for a miracle. He’s afraid of what happens next. Kim says, so is she. He says, him too, and holds her.

Kristina says she has to get behind the bar. Next time, her treat. When she’s gone, Alexis asks what’s on Molly’s mind. Molly says she’s been busy with school, and spending every spare minute with TJ. She hasn’t been spending time with Kristina, and had no idea she was so into DOD. Alexis says Kristina always dives in head first, at the moment when passion seizes her. She thinks it’s good for Kristina’s self-esteem. She’s cautious, but not worried, as long as Kristina isn’t hurting herself or anyone else. Molly says, let’s hope not.

Valerie sits at the bar. She flashes back to Kristina kissing her. She orders a lemon drop, and asks the bartender to be generous with the vodka.

Molly asks if she can talk to Kristina about something. She knows Kristina was distracted before dinner, and she thought their mom and Sam were dancing around the topic. What’s really going on with her and DOD? It’s way past volunteering. Kristina lives there, and it’s all she talks about. Kristina says it transformed her life. Molly says, more like took over. When has she last had an original thought or said something that didn’t originate with Shiloh. Kristina says Shiloh is a great teacher, and spiritually evolved. Molly says she’s been indoctrinated. DOD Is a cult.

Shiloh asks Sam how he can help her. She says she came to talk about Kristina. He says he’s all ears, and she asks if he can put on a shirt. He asks if it makes her uncomfortable. We see the phone behind her back, with the tattoo sketch on the screen. Are you kidding? Wouldn’t Sam have made that disappear the second he came in?

Willow gets dressed. As she pulls her dress over her head, we see she has the same tramp stamp as Daisy and Harmony.

That was a good ending. I actually made a noise when I saw Willow’s tattoo.

Tomorrow, Valentin thinks Anna is desperate, Shiloh asks Sam if she’s worried about his safety, and Sonny asks where his son is.

💃 I almost forgot. I’m still hanging with Mexican Dynasties, where this week Paulina said her brother Oscar was her soulmate. Another cast member said it was like Game of Thrones around there, and I don’t want to know. It was also Oscar’s birthday, and he decided on an S&M themed party, which he had to explain to his eighty-plus-year-old mother. He was awakened on his birthday with a mariachi band playing the Mexican version of Happy Birthday, which he took a lot better than I would have. He and sis Paulina also had their own variation of the song, called Fatale Birthday, about less than cordial birthday wishes, and it was actually pretty funny. Adan was still having angst over his decision to pass on La Voz. He seems like a big spoiled baby who is easily manipulated.

🔪 Finishing up in Macau, tonight was Top Chef’s season finale. Eric, Kelsey, and Sara started off at the MGM Theater, where they saw montages of clips from throughout the season. Then Padma came out and told them they’d be cooking the four-course meal of their lives. The other contestants returned, and the three finalists each chose two sous chefs from the group, drawing numbered knives to see what the picking order would be. They were given thirty minutes for menu planning, and three hours to shop, being allowed to place special orders. They had six hours to cook, two hours being for the first course – wherein came the twist. After the first course, only two cooks would be picked to finish the next day, and one would be packing their knives. Kelsey went with a summers in the South theme, Eric wanted to smack them in the face with flavor, and Sara combined Asian and Portuguese, and gave it a Southern touch. Unfortunately, Eric smacked himself out of the competition by burning the lotus chips, as well as the judges not being able to taste the beef. It was down to Kelsey and Sara, who decided to have dinner at a five-star Japanese restaurant in the hotel. They had an unbelievable meal, filled with sushi beyond your wildest dreams.

For the last competition, Kelsey chose softshell crab as one of her dishes. Since there is no fresh crab in Macau, I thought it might cost her. Fresh is always best. Sara had a ribeye to die for, and a slice of duck that was perfection. And I don’t like duck. One of her courses was too salty, which didn’t go over big. I totally understood, not being crazy about salt, and being that person who can eat only one potato chip. Padma congratulated the finalists, and Tom said they competed with confidence and intention, and from the heart. Graham said Kelsey’s mushrooms were out of control. I have no idea what he meant by that, but they did look good. It must have been nearly impossible to choose, but Kelsey became the new Top Chef. Sara said second place was not too bad. On Watch What Happens Live, it was also announced that Kelsey was the fan favorite. You go, Southern Girl!

🍔 MasterChef Junior started again, but you can’t watch ‘em all, so I’m not. Maybe later in the season.

General Hospital

In Ankara, Turkey, Robert and Sonny have coffee. Sonny says Robert’s friend better get there soon.

Jason and Laura drive toward the Falls. She kubutzes about his driving. Chase calls, and says Doc is fine. He’s on his way to surgery. She tells him they have reason to believe Ryan is on his way to Niagara Falls with Ava. She says, we hope to have more information soon. Chase says, we? and she says she’s with a friend.

Elizabeth paces at the hospital. Drew gives her an empty coffee cup, because no one is ever going to learn how to make one look like it’s full. He asks how Franco is, and she says, he keeps drifting in and out, but the doctors say he’ll be fine. Drew says, at least Franco’s name will be cleared, and everyone will know he’s innocent. Elizabeth wishes he had trusted her with the truth. Drew says Jordan probably swore him to secrecy. The bottom line is, they know it was Ryan Chamberlain, not Franco. Kim runs in, and tells Drew about the kids being in Niagara Falls, and Oscar having a seizure.

Cameron is shocked to run into Ryan. Ryan says, what are the odds? Cameron says his friends are waiting, but Ryan asks, what’s the rush? He can’t let him go now – not yet.

Ava opens the trunk with the remote. She sees Josslyn, and asks if she’s here with her mother. We see Carly unconscious in the trunk.

Sonny says if Robert’s contact doesn’t show soon, they’re out of there. Robert realizes in Sonny’s world, people turn up on time, but they’re not in his world. Sonny says he noticed that. Robert says they do a lot of sitting around before the action. He ain’t seen nothing yet. He reminds Sonny, it’s a small price to pay; his time for information. A woman asks if they’re interested in a diversion, and asks Sonny if she can read his fortune. Sonny says, some other time, but Robert tells him to let her read his palm.

Laura knows Jason isn’t big on explaining himself, but everything is happening fast, and she’s been locked in Ferncliff. She wants to know how did they get to this point? Jason says when Carly was in Ferncliff, there was a patient in the next room. He never saw them, but he’s pretty sure it was Ryan. He was trying to communicate with Carly using Morse code. Laura knew that already, and says Doc and Ryan would have switched places by then. Jason says he has a friend who’s an expert at cyber security; the best. He came up with the name Wilson. Laura says, Ryan’s alias. Jason says Carly went to question the guy she thought was Doc, and Ryan made up a story that the patient was a serial killer named Wilson Ritter. It didn’t check out, and then Franco gave an interview, saying he was a better killer than Ryan Chamberlain, aka Todd Wilson. Jason tells Laura that he kept the security footage. Ryan and Carly were at the hospital at the same time. Carly went to the garage, and her car was there, but her phone was on the ground. There was no sign of Ryan. Laura says, if Carly questioned him, does Jason think he did something to her? Jason says he couldn’t have killed her in the garage; there were too many people. He couldn’t move her to a second location either, so she’s locked up at the hospital, or he took her with him. Laura thinks they have to go through all the possibilities, but Jason won’t consider that Carly is dead.

On the phone, Chase says Ryan is on his way to Niagara Falls, if he’s not there already. He’s sent an updated photo, along with a photo of his traveling companion, Ava Jerome. He says Ryan is armed and dangerous. Lulu sees him, and says she got his message that they found her mom. Jason says she was there, but she left. Lulu asks where she is, and Chase says, it’s a complicated situation. Lulu asks, what’s going on?

Kim tells Drew about Oscar’s seizure and that the kids are in Niagara Falls. He says they’ll take the company chopper.

Cameron tells Ryan that he’s there with friends. Ryan asks if his mom is chaperoning, and Cameron says, sorry, but his friend Trina is waiting. Ryan tells him to have a good time. He won’t tell if Cameron doesn’t. Cameron says nothing, and gets the blip out of there.

Josslyn tells Ava that her boyfriend had a seizure, and the paramedics took him to the hospital. They wouldn’t let her come, so she called an Uber. She walks off, and Ava says she hopes it works out. She goes to the back of the car, and sees Carly in the trunk. She says, oh my God, what is happening? Ryan is suddenly there, and says, surprise!

Chase tells Lulu that Doc was admitted for surgery, but she thought he was on his way to Niagara Falls to marry Ava. Chase tells her that she needs to prepare herself.

Cameron, Josslyn, and Trina arrive at the hospital. The nurse asks if they’re family, and Trina says Cameron is Oscar’s cousin. When the nurse asks what side of the family, Cameron says his mom almost married Oscar’s dad. Josslyn says she’s Oscar’s girlfriend. She knows that doesn’t count as family, but he needs her, and asks the nurse to make an exception. Or does she have to find a way to sneak in the room? The nurse says she must be Josslyn; she’s just like Oscar described. He’s awake and groggy, but lucid. The nurse gives her the room number, and she goes in to see Oscar. He asks if Cameron is there too. He’s sorry he ruined their only night alone. She says he didn’t ruin anything; he had a seizure. Josslyn says they made it to Niagara Falls. Their road trip is definitely memorable. He says this is the only memory he cares about; right here, right now, with her. This is the time they’ve got, and all they’re going to get.

Cameron asks Trina if cousin was the best she could come up with. She says it would have worked if he’d played along. He says, sometimes the truth works, but Trina says Josslyn didn’t get in because she was honest. Cameron says it’s because Oscar is in bad shape. Elizabeth calls, and says she knows he’s in Niagara Falls, and knows Oscar had a seizure. Cameron asks if they can talk about it later. He knows he’s in trouble, but he’s in the middle of a crisis. Elizabeth says he got Oscar to the hospital, and she’s proud of him. He asks if that means he’s not in trouble, but she says, no. She tells him to let Oscar know his parents are on the way. She also needs to tell something about Franco.

Sonny doesn’t believe in fortune telling, but if it helps pass the time, the woman can give him a reading. Robert gives her his chair. The woman says Sonny’s lifeline is long, but doesn’t guarantee a long life; he still has to be careful about anything that might shorten it. Sonny asks what else she sees, and she says he has a fate line. Not everyone has one. She tells him someone he loves is in danger.

Ava doesn’t understand. Did Carly follow them, or has she been in the trunk all this time? Ryan says, it’s not a problem, but Ava says he can’t leave Carly there. He says, of course not. He tells her to go to the room; he’ll handle everything. She asks what he means, and he asks if she loves him. She says, of course, and he asks if she trusts him. He tells her, go back to the room and wait. She says, don’t be long. and he says she won’t have time to miss him. Ava leaves, and he closes the trunk.

Cameron tells Elizabeth that his friend just had a seizure. He thought Oscar was going to die. Elizabeth says Franco was cleared of all charges. Cameron says, and? She says, he’s innocent. Cameron knows she wants to believe that, but she says they know who the real killer is; Ryan Chamberlain. Cameron asks if he didn’t die a million years ago, and she says, that’s what everyone thought, but he’s been posing as Doc; they’re identical twins. He tried to frame Franco for the murders. Cameron says he just saw Doc, but Elizabeth says he’s at GH. Cameron says that means he was talking to Ryan Chamberlain. He gives Elizabeth the address of the hotel, and she tells him to stay at the hospital. Don’t move until Drew shows up, and don’t go anywhere by himself. She loves him.

Laura says as far as she’s concerned, she asked Jason for a ride to Niagara Falls. What he does when they get there is none of her business. She doesn’t want to know, and she’s not asking. Her phone rings. It’s Elizabeth, who tells her everyone is fine, but Cameron ran into Ryan at a hotel, and had no idea it was Ryan. Laura asks the name of the hotel, and Elizabeth says The Inn at Cascade Point. Laura asks her to tell Chase, and have him call the Niagara Falls PD. When Laura finishes the call, Jason calls Spinelli, and tells him to get into the mainframe at the hotel, and find out what room Dr. Collins checked into.

Sonny says he knows how this works. The palm reader says someone he loves is in danger, he gives her a few lira, and surprisingly they’re not in danger anymore. She tells Robert to tell his friend that she sees a child who is a man; a son. Sonny says he’s got a couple of those, and she says this one has his eyes. He’s the one in danger. Sonny asks how she knows this. She says she sees it. His child’s life is in the palm of his hands.

Oscar tells Josslyn not to leave, and she says she’s not going anywhere. He says, him neither, but she says that’s not true. He wants Cameron to have his car. He’s not saying it to upset her, he’s saying it because it’s real. He doesn’t want his stuff to go to waste. That’s why Cameron isn’t getting his telescope, but he wants Cameron to be constantly reminded about how he messed up the trip. She tells Oscar to stop doing whatever he’s trying to do, but Oscar says, it’s okay to laugh. He loves her laugh. He loves everything about her. She kisses him.

Trina tells Cameron that she’s not big on true crime, so she hasn’t been paying attention. She knows Ryan Chamberlain murdered seven women in Texas, and was killed in a fire. Cameron says, obviously not. According to his mom, Ryan killed all those people, and Franco had nothing to do with it. Trina asks if his mother is possibly blaming a dead man because it hurts too much. He tells her that his mom said Doc was at GH. Trina calls the hospital, and asks for Doc, then says she’ll call back later. She tells Cameron that Doc is having surgery as they speak. Cameron says that means he was talking to the real killer – Ryan Chamberlain.

Lulu says, so instead of burning, Ryan held Doc hostage at Ferncliff, took his place, killed three people, and tried to kill her? Chase says, yeah, and Lulu says she was so sure Franco was the one. She flashes back to the stabbing, and sees Ryan’s face replace Franco’s. She says, it was Ryan. When she couldn’t remember, she let him hypnotize her, and he convinced her it was Franco. Chase says, everyone thought he was dead. It was the perfect disguise and alibi. Elizabeth joins them, and tells Chase that she knows where Ryan is.

Ava has a drink, and paces. She sees her dress on the bed, and says, oh God. She puts presses 911 on her phone, but doesn’t hit dial. She says, he’s having a breakdown. Everyone said it happened before. How does she help? Ryan comes in, and says he sees she broke into the mini bar; he could use a drink. She says she took the vodka, and he says, bourbon will do nicely. She asks why Carly is in the trunk of his car. He says, isn’t it obvious? She’s a wedding present for his bride-to-be. Think of her as wrapped up and ready to go.

Sonny needs more convincing, since he’s a skeptical American. Robert thinks they should be on their way. The woman says after she shares her gift, this is the thanks she gets? and holds out her hand. Sonny gives her some money, and she says, really? He gives her more, and she says his destiny awaits him.

Trina says Cameron was just face to face with a serial killer. The upside is, his stepfather isn’t a killer. Cameron says he is, but he killed people before a brain tumor was removed. Trina says if she was related to one of the victims, she would dedicate her life to sending him to prison, but Cameron’s mom believes in forgiveness, and now Franco isn’t going to prison. He has to find a way to get along. Cameron says she knows how to cheer someone up. Trina says he has no right to complain. None of them do. No matter how dysfunctional their families are, they’re healthy. They have their whole lives to see any place they want, but this was Oscar’s last chance to see the Falls and be with Josslyn. It’s happening, and nothing they’re going through comes close. She tells Cameron, get over it. He says she’s harsh. Truthful, but harsh. She says, he can take it. Drew and Kim arrive, and Kim thanks Cameron for taking care of Oscar. Trina wonders if she’ll still be thanking him when she hears about the car.

Kim and Drew go in to see Oscar. He knows he’s in trouble, but they wanted to be together. Josslyn says she loves him, but his parents have to be with him right now. She leaves, and Oscar asks them not to be angry. Drew says they’re not angry; they’re furious. Kim loves him, but that doesn’t mean she’s happy he took off without letting them know. Drew says he had another seizure, and Oscar says, it was really bad.

Elizabeth tells Lulu and Chase that Cameron ran into Ryan. Lulu asks where? and Elizabeth explains that Ryan and Ava were going to Niagara Falls to elope. Ava thinks she’s going to marry Doc. Chase says he’s letting the Niagara Falls PD know, and steps away. Elizabeth tells Lulu that her mom is amazing. She was locked in the basement at Ferncliff, but was completely in control. Lulu should be proud of her. Lulu says she was manipulated by a psychopath. He got in her head, and convinced her that Franco attacked her. She can’t even tell Elizabeth enough that she’s sorry. Elizabeth says, Ryan fooled everyone. Even Lulu’s mother thought he was Doc. Lucy didn’t see it, and neither did Felicia. She thinks the woman he stalked and nearly killed would know. There were a lot of people who knew Doc better than Lulu, but they didn’t know Ryan took his place.

Jason thanks Spinelli. He pulls into The Inn parking lot, and takes out his gun. He tells Laura, stay here.

Ryan apologizes to Ava. He knows finding Carly like that must have upsetting. Ava doesn’t know what he did to get her Carly in there, but knows he did it to help her. He says whatever helps her, helps him, so technically he did it for the both of them. She says whatever impulse he had to do it, she’s glad it can be undone. They don’t need anyone or anything from Port Charles tainting their elopement. They should go ahead with their wedding and honeymoon, and deal with all things Port Charles when they get back. The sooner they get Carly out of the trunk and get her home, the better. She hands him a drink, and he says he wouldn’t worry about Carly. She’s already on her way. Ava asks, where? What has he done?

She asks where Carly is, and Ryan says, five miles east. At least she was the last he saw her. Ava asks if he dropped her off, and he says, in a manner of speaking. Ava asks, was she… in any condition to take care of herself? Ryan says she knows Carly is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. It’s her greatest talent, and one priority. Speaking of priorities, his is marrying her. He guesses he ruined everything. Ava isn’t sure what he means, and he says he saw her wedding ensemble. He’s not supposed to see it before the wedding. Ava says that’s only if he sees her wearing it, but seeing it laid out on the bed is fine. He wants to be on the safe side, and thinks she should wear something else. She says if means that much to him, and he says he’s waited his entire life for her; a woman who accepts, understands, and fulfills him. Now that they found each other, they’ll join their lives and fates. He wants everything to be perfect.

Sonny tells the fortune teller, enjoy the tip. He and Robert leave, and a couple of guys look like they’re going to follow, but the fortune teller gets in their way, delaying them for a moment, and telling one of them his future is dark. Outside, Robert asks what Sonny got. Sonny says, an address.

Cameron asks Josslyn how Oscar is. She says he seems okay; he’s making jokes. Trina says, attitude is important, but Josslyn says, it only goes so far. She’s tried to stay positive and put a smile on Oscar’s face, keep his spirits up. Sometimes they forget or pretend to forget for a little while. Sometimes they pretend it’s normal, but it’s not. He’s not. He’s running out of time, and one day he’s not going to be there for the next trip. He’s going to be gone. Cameron tells her not to get ahead of herself. There are still good days. Trina says, don’t waste time, and Cameron says, stay in the present. Stay with Oscar.

Kim tells Oscar when they get back to Port Charles, they’ll talk to Terry and Griff, and see what’s what. Drew says, in the meantime, they need to get him home. Kim says she’ll talk to the doctor, and see what’s next. They’ll all be together. Drew says they love him, and Oscar says he knows.

Chase tells Lulu that units are being sent to the hotel. She hopes they find Ryan, arrest him, and lock him up for good. She wishes they’d tattoo Ryan on his forehead, so no one will make that mistake again. I second that. Chase says, he had the advantage of hiding in plain sight, but this is a manhunt like no other. Lulu hopes they find him before he hurts someone else.

Tomorrow, Maxie asks if Peter ever says no, Robert tells Sonny they’re in the right place, and Jason says Ryan and Ava are headed for Canada.

🔪 On Top Chef, the Quickfire challenge was to incorporate the smelly durian fruit into a dish. I’ve never tasted durian, but it was described as a combination of banana, mango, and garlic chives, and stinking to high heaven. Like that dead skunk in the middle of the road. Soon-to-be father Eric said he hoped what his baby would be putting out wasn’t as smelly. It didn’t sound worth it, but maybe if I tasted it, I’d feel differently. Michelle won an extra hour of cook time with a sweet and savory shrimp dish. For the elimination challenge, the chefs were to incorporate their own heritage with the Chinese/Portugese flavors of Macau. James Beard Award winner Abe Conlon was the guest judge, and he took the contestants out to one of his favorite Macau restaurants, where family members awaited them. They had something called minchee, which I’d love to try. It’s made with minced beef or pork and flavored with molasses and soy sauce, served with a fried egg on top.  After that, they went shopping. Nothing better than an Asian market IMO. Sara had her heart set on matzo balls, and while they didn’t exactly have matzo, they did have some unleavened big ass crackers that she found appropriate. We learned that including soda water is the secret to good matzo balls. Michelle made a seafood dish, Eric prepared an Egusi stew with shrimp and dumplings, and Kelsey did a low country boil with shrimp. The Egusi stew uses ground melon seeds as one of its components, which did not go over that big, since it made the dish gritty. The judges didn’t make it clear whether that was the idea and they just didn’t like it, or he didn’t grind them fine enough. Sara’s big ass cracker matzo ball soup was the big winner. Tom said he wasn’t feeling the Chinese flavor in Michelle’s dish, and she had too much going on. It was her turn to pack up her knives and depart. Gail said it was that extra hour that backfired. Michelle went out disappointed, but proud. She’d gained closure in her personal life, and was more self-aware. She was ready for what the future had in store. Next time, the finale, where the chefs have to cook the four-course meal of their lives.

🎭 I haven’t seen the R. Kelly interview with Gayle King, but I saw clips, and puh-leeze. How dramatic can you get? If I’d been Gayle, I would have wanted to kick him one. Yeah, I wouldn’t be afraid of him either. He’s just a bad actor. The really sad part is, he thinks the public is that stupid. Maybe they are, but I hope not.

💂 I almost fell out of my chair. On Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, it looked like Tracy was going to get the opportunity to represent a property in Dubai. Then, in next week’s preview, we saw her visiting Caroline Stanbury in Dubai. She was a cast member of The Ladies of London, which I loved, but it never returned after the untimely death of one of the ladies. I remember Caroline having a house there. I’m all excited about this, which I know sounds sad.

What I Watched Today

Now I get why they postponed this episode. Soaps In Depth explained (see below) that it was the possibility of interruption. Normally, I might think that was silly, but this episode was not to be interrupted. It was the best one in ages. I was literally screaming at my TV. On to the episode.

General Hospital

Lulu approaches her office. Maxie joins her, and says she doesn’t have to do this today, but Lulu says she has to go in there. Maxie says she had enough stress facing Franco. Lulu says she thought it would bring back more memories, but if anything, it left her with more questions. She has to go back to where it happened. She can’t shake the feeling that she missed a big part of the murders. Maxie takes her hand, and they go in.

At Charlie’s bar, Ava reads the interview on her phone. Scotty says, not her too. The whole town is buzzing about the interview Lulu did with The Invader. Ava says, they also provided a transcript, and Scotty says, they were thorough. He asks how many times she’s going to read it. She says she’s reading it until it makes sense. She was willing to believe him, but he’s saying his vision was genius. Maybe it was Franco who killed Kiki.

At one of the tables, Cameron reads out loud from the interview. Josslyn tells him, don’t do this to himself. He says he’s just getting to the good part. Oscar takes Cameron’s phone away. Cameron says at least he knows he was right. Franco never cared abut them, and was using them as a cover. Josslyn says she’s sorry. Cameron is glad Lulu did the interview. Now the entire world knows Franco is a killer.

Drew visits Elizabeth, who asks if he shouldn’t be resting. He says it was just minor surgery, and Elizabeth asks if there’s any word on Jordan. He says, no. Her head and spine weren’t injured, but she has internal injuries. Elizabeth says she’s tough; she’ll pull through. Drew doesn’t know how he’ll live with himself if she doesn’t. Elizabeth says he had no control, but he says he was behind the wheel. He’s there because he was hoping to help her. He heard about the interview. He hugs her.

Ryan asks Franco, what’s gotten into him? Between pleading guilty and that spectacle of an interview, his life as he knew it is over. He’s throwing it away on a lie. Franco says, the truth will come out sooner or later, and Ryan asks who the hell does he think he is?

Elizabeth suggests making tea. She tells Drew that The Invader posted a transcript of the interview. Franco sounded like a stranger. She kept waiting for a mistake, the revelation that he pled guilty for a reason. She still believes in him. Drew says he does too. That’s why he brought back the rings. He tells her, relax; he can handle tea. Maybe. Elizabeth says she’s a mess, It didn’t matter who warned her. She wouldn’t listen. Drew says no one blames her. She says it’s not just about her. She hates the attention on her kids. How is she supposed to ask them to keep believing in Franco? How is she supposed to?

Scotty says Ava can’t possibly think Franco killed Kiki. She says, he said he did. He bragged that she was too beautiful not to kill. Scotty doesn’t know why he said it. Ava says he was proud of himself, and how Ryan Chamberlain’s murders paled in comparison. Scotty says, it doesn’t make sense. He adored Kiki. He was there, and saw the agony on Franco’s face. It was not the face of a murderer. She says he fooled them both, and a lot of other people. Scotty says, he didn’t do it. She says, it takes time to process. She’s still in shock, and thought she’d be angrier. Doc is.

Franco tells Ryan that he’d be mad too if someone fooled him that badly. He actually thought he’d healed Franco – the great Doctor Collins. Ryan says he didn’t kill them. He doesn’t have it in him. Franco thinks the victims would disagree. It was sad that he couldn’t finish Lulu. Ryan says Franco eradicated the urge to kill, and Franco says Doc is bitter. He’s supposed to be an expert. Ryan says he doesn’t know the purpose of this charade, but knows Franco didn’t kill them. Franco says he understands. Doc just can’t get it. It’s okay; it’s over his head. Ryan asks why he’s taking credit. Was he that starved for attention? He needed eyes glued on him? Franco wonders why it bothers Doc that he’s wrong. Ryan has never been more certain. He’s Franco’s psychiatrist. He tells Franco that he’s protected by doctor/patient confidentiality. Franco says Doc is saying that now, but he sold him out, and told Franco’s deepest secrets. Ryan says he had no choice. Let him make it up by doing what should have done in the first place. He’ll listen. Franco says, too late. Ryan says he won’t even take notes. It will stay between them. Franco says, that went so well the last time.

Oscar says it will be good to get away from the drama. Cameron says his mom wouldn’t notice if he drove to Florida. Franco pled guilty in court, and she still won’t believe it. Oscar says, she’s probably in denial, and Cameron says, last night, she told his brothers that Franco was innocent, and they believed her. He admitted to playing her. He’s done fighting, and can’t pretend he’s okay with it. He has to get away. Trina comes in, and says, not without her. If they’re doing a road trip, they’re doing it right.

Scotty tells Ava that Doc didn’t do Franco any favors. She says he did his best to treat him. It’s not his fault Franco is beyond help. Scotty says, Doc is a quack with a God complex. Ava says, he’s supportive and wonderful. She doesn’t know what she would have done without him. Scotty wonders when Doc is going to kick her to the curb like Laura. She tells him Doc proposed, and shows him the ring.

Ryan tells Franco it’s his last chance to save himself; don’t waste it. Franco says he knows what he’s doing. Ryan tells him, admit he’s lying. Fess up, or he’ll spend the rest of his life in Pentonville, probably in solitary. Franco says he and Jordan are working together. I yell, noooo!

Maxie asks Lulu if memories are coming back. Lulu says none she wants coming back. Like how she escaped. Franco said he designed it that way, wanting her to bleed out in the elevator, but that doesn’t feel like what happened. Maxie suggests he’s spinning his own mistake. Lulu says she’s never regretted not going to a book launch so much. Maxie says she should be proud. She survived for a reason. Franco was caught. It could have been worse. He could have killed as many as Ryan did. Lulu remembers looking up how many women Ryan killed. Maxie asks, what’s wrong?

Ryan says, the commissioner is in on it? Franco tells him that she said it would work if it was kept just between them, but it won’t work if he lets anyone know. Ryan says if Franco tells him, he’ll leave like nothing happened. He won’t interfere with the plans. Franco says he didn’t even tell Elizabeth. Ryan says, let him shoulder some of the burden. He promises if Franco talks to him, he’ll feel better. Franco says Doc knows he didn’t kill them, and Ryan says of course he does. Why say he did? Franco says, Jordan thinks the killer will take the bait. If he takes credit, the killer will reveal himself. He thinks things are going as planned. He’s taking the credit, and there’s no way the killer wants that. Ryan tells him, go one. What happens when the killer seeks him out. Franco says he has a phone, and shows Ryan. By now, I’m practically hopping out of my chair, yelling, why are you doing this?! Ryan asks if Franco doesn’t feel better, and slips a knife into his hand from his pocket or sleeve or wherever he had it hidden. Franco says if he can get justice for Kiki, it will be worth it. He says, this situation is going to kill him, and Ryan says he can see that. No, it’s going to kill me. Isn’t Franco smarter than this?

Scotty says Ava doesn’t waste time, but she says, why should they? He says she’s only been seeing him a couple of months. She says someone might say she’s jumping the gun, but what does it matter if they’re happy? Life is short. Scotty says, yes; too short to make a blunder. He’s concerned, but she says she doesn’t need it. She’s not denying herself the love and happiness she deserves. She asks Scotty to please put his history with Doc aside. Their relationship has completely changed her life. He’s taught her about real love; genuine and selfless. He’d do anything for her, and her for him. She’s never experienced that. If Scotty is her friend, he’ll feel happy for her, or at least try. He says, nothing in this crazy world is making sense.

Oscar asks Trina what she means by, do it right? She asks where they’re stopping at, where are they eating, and what’s the budget? Cameron never saw her practical side, and she says it’s a gift. She’s amazing with scheduling. It stops problems before they happen. Cameron says she has a point, but all the planning in the world couldn’t stop his mom from marrying Franco.

Elizabeth reads from the interview about how Franco took care with the lighting and juxtaposition. and when he gave Kiki’s eulogy, everyone ate it with a spoon. She was too beautiful not to kill. Drew tells her, stop. None of this makes sense. Franco loved Kiki. He would never hurt her. Why say he did?

Franco – who I would love to gag right now because he won’t stop talking – tells Ryan that Jordan believed if he did the interview, the killer would make a mistake, and she’d be ready and waiting. Ryan says the killer doesn’t strike him as the type to make mistakes. Franco says, he screwed up killing Lulu, but Ryan says, maybe there were extenuating circumstances. Franco says, maybe he’s not too bright. Ryan says, bright enough to evade the police so far. He asks if Franco realizes, if the real killer catches on, it’s likely he’ll kill again, starting with him. Franco says he thought Doc was supposed to make him feel better. Ryan says he’s worried about Franco’s safety. He doesn’t think the plan will work, especially given Jordan’s circumstances. She was in a terrible car accident. Franco asks if she’s all right, and Ryan asks who’s going to answer if the real killer shows up looking to do him in. Franco says it’s all Doc’s fault. What the hell happened? When Lulu went to see him, she didn’t remember anything. When she came to, she was convinced the killer was him. Doc needs to fix it; fix his mistake. Ryan laughs. He says for someone considered so brilliant, Franco is slow on the uptake. Franco is like, huh? and Ryan says he doesn’t make mistakes. He did this perfectly.

Cameron says the point of the trip is to have fun, and see the wonders of nature. It wouldn’t hurt to plan as far as budget goes. They’re about to pool their money, but Josslyn tells them, keep it. The trip is going to be paid for courtesy of the adventure fund.

Scotty tells Ava about all the people he’s lost. Gail was more than a stepmom. He married too young, and she became his mother when his real mother passed away. Ava is sorry for his loss. He says he bets she is. She knows anger makes you lash out, and hopes he calls her to get together soon. She’d like hear about Gail. He asks, why not now? She promises she’ll work on being a better friend, but she needs to check on Doc.

Lulu remembers why she was late. She was confused about the number of Ryan’s victims. Maxie tells her, it says seven online, but Lulu says, something doesn’t sound right. She flashes back to saying the names, and putting one in the Spyder-Finder search engine.

Ryan says Franco doesn’t get it. So disappointing. Franco is worried about him, and tells him to get some rest. He’s calling Jordan. Ryan says he told Franco that she’s unconscious. He says, Franco, and when Franco turns around, Ryan stabs him. Now, I’m nearly crying with frustration.

Elizabeth reads to Drew about Franco saying he pushed his brother down the stairs, but it was a shame he lived. He got better with time. Drew says they know that’s not true. Franco tried to save him. Why lie, when it makes him look guiltier?

Franco says, why? Ryan says, because he can’t let a has-been like Franco take credit for his work. It’s been him all along. Franco says, Kevin? and Ryan says, close. One more try. Franco says, Ryan? and Ryan says, ding-ding-ding! Finally the penny drops. He wanted to reveal it sooner. He’d admired Franco’s work, but when he took out the tumor, his talent went with it. The good news is, at least he’ll die. There’s no shame in being murdered by a master. Franco yells for help. Ryan cuts himself on the palm of his hand, and says he doesn’t recall it hurting as much when Felicia stabbed him. It’s the price we pay to achieve art. He asks if Franco is ready to finish, and inches closer.

Josslyn explains, adventure is a family tradition. Her father told her, mountains are there to be climbed whenever possible. He believes in leaving no trace; let the wild stay wild. He set up a special account for when life takes her unexpected places that you never know if you can visit again. You have to take advantage of what’s in front of you. Oscar asks if her mom knows about the fund, but she says it’s strictly a Jax thing. He set up when her grandmother, Lady Jane died. She grew up in the outback, and you name it, she could do it. She said, with grit and imagination, anything is possible, but money always helps. She doesn’t use the money for anything ordinary, but unexpected opportunities. Cameron asks if Niagara Falls qualifies. Josslyn says her father wants her to choose her own adventures. It’s up to her, and she chooses this one.

Lulu tells Maxie, bits and pieces are coming back. She remembers saying Deborah Jones. Maxie says, take it from her, Jones is a common name. There could be thousands. Lulu says she can narrow it down by finding out if there are any victims of homicide by that name. Maxie wonders if they should take it to the police, but Lulu says not until they have more than a name. Maxie says, Lulu was traumatized. Maybe it’s random. Lulu says she’s almost positive it’s connected to her research on Ryan.

Elizabeth tells Drew maybe Franco thought it made the interview more interesting, but he says, what if he was sending a message. Elizabeth says, how so? He says, besides Doc, they’re the only ones who know about the abuse Franco suffered as a child. Elizabeth says, and they know he’s lying. Drew says, maybe he was trying to tell them something. He doesn’t know what yet, but feels they need to trust him.

Franco tries to inch away from Ryan. Ryan says, Jordan’s plan was a fool’s plan. Look where it led him. Franco says he doesn’t want do this, but Ryan says he does, and thanks him for making it easy. Surprising us all, Nurse Kay walks in. Ryan says, thank God, and Franco tells her Doc stabbed him. Ryan says, it was in self-defense. Run and get help! She jets, and Franco yells, he’s not Dr. Collins! When Ryan turns back to the room, somehow Franco has gotten himself up. He punches Ryan, gets the knife, and locks him in. Franco stumbles down the hall, and Ryan yells that he doesn’t  make mistakes.

Josslyn says, now that they’re in agreement that the trip is covered, are they in? They are. Oscar thanks Cameron for driving. Cameron is glad to, especially since he’s not paying for gas. Josslyn tells them she brought extra jackets and supplies. Oscar doesn’t know if they’ll make it in time for Cameron’s curfew, but Cameron doesn’t care if he ever makes it back home.

Ava goes to Doc’s office, but his assistant hasn’t heard from him in a while, and he has no patients on his schedule.

Lulu tells Maxie that Deborah Jones was a homicide victim in Texas at the time Ryan was living there. She was stabbed, and the murder was never solved; it’s a cold case. Maxie says, creepy. Lulu goes over the known list of Ryan’s victims. Maxie says, there are seven, but Lulu says if she adds Deborah and Suzanne Smith, there are nine. She remembers saying Suzanne’s name, but she can’t remember who she was talking to. Her mom said there were nine. She saw nine on a list in Doc’s office. Maxie suggests calling Laura, but Lulu says she’s been trying all afternoon, and gotten voicemail. Maxie wonders how Doc would know the names. Lulu says, when the police don’t. Something is very wrong.

Drew asks Elizabeth if she thinks Franco is protecting someone. Elizabeth says, by throwing his life away? He asks if she still thinks he’s innocent, and she says, doesn’t he? He says, yeah, but she has more of a stake in it. She says she still has faith regardless of the interview. So does Drew. He says it’s going to be okay. It’s got to be. He tells her if she needs anything, he’ll be right over. He leaves, and she takes the rings out of her pocket.

Kay comes back and asks, where’s Franco? Ryan says Franco attacked him again, and took off. Secure all the exits. They can’t let him get away.

Alarms go off, and Franco runs as best he can. He leans against a wall, and dials the phone. He leaves a message telling Jordan her plan worked. The killer is Ryan Chamberlain. He keeps moving, and goes out another door. I’m thinking he’s going to end up in the basement.

Crap, this was too much for me. lol

Tomorrow, Anna and Robert tell Peter that they need to talk about his lies, Felicia says there are no coincidences where Ryan is concerned, and Jason tells Carly finding out isn’t worth putting her and her baby at risk.

🔪 This week on Top Chef, the contestants traveled to Chinese territory, Macau, where Graham Elliot has a restaurant. The first order of business – besides checking into the glamorous hotel – was a tour of the Red Market, which carries probably everything your heart could desire and more. Seeing the markets is always a highlight of these shows for me. Graham picked up several kinds of fresh fish – and by fresh, I mean it was moving two seconds before he bought it – to be used in the Quickfire challenge. The chefs were to create a dish inspired by the market. They had 45 minutes, and the equivalent of $25 to do it. Michelle, who was back from Last Chance Kitchen, was the winner with cuttlefish.

The elimination challenge saw the chefs catering a Chinese New Year party at the Macau MGM Hotel for two hundred people. Each chef chose a sous chef (also a former contestant), who came with a tray of ingredients representing a new year wish, such as prosperity and longevity, that were a requirement for the dish they would help with. The chefs did get a bit of respite, sitting down for a fancy dinner at Graham’s restaurant before the big day. Sara tried to make some grits option using cauliflower which got a huge no from Tom, since cauliflower does not grits make. I knew exactly what he meant, since cauliflower rice ain’t rice either. Kelsey won, and Adrian packed her knives, because her dish was predictable and lacked flavor. She went for the one perfect bite, but I guess it wasn’t. And at this point, no Last Chance Kitchen for you. She said there wasn’t much she regretted, but she wasn’t sure where she was headed after this. Next time, some stinky, spiky fruit.

⛵ Summer House will return on Monday, March 4th at 10 pm. Oh yay. (That was sarcasm.)

General Hospital

Sonny asks if Robert plans on leaving his son out in the cold. Robert says he’s not leaving him behind, and Sonny asks if he got the okay to bring Dante home.

Sam tells Jason that she’s meeting Shiloh at the MetroCourt. Jason asks if Shiloh gave any indication where they were going. She says, no, and Jason says Shiloh is testing her. She thinks it’s good if she goes no questions asked, so he’ll trust her. She knows Jason hates it, but she has to make sure Shiloh doesn’t think she’s playing him.

Curtis talks to TJ on the phone, wanting to get together, but TJ is busy. Drew joins him, and says if TJ thinks he’s busy now, wait until he’s chief of staff. Curtis says he was hoping to have coffee with TJ, since he was dropping Lulu off. Drew asks how she’s doing, and Curtis says, physically, she’s fine, but the arraignment got the better of her. Drew says, she’s not the only one.

Elizabeth sits in her car. Terry knocks on the window, and Elizabeth nearly has a heart attack. Terry says she didn’t mean to scare her; she should have known better. She asks if everything is okay, but Elizabeth says, no; far from it.

Jordan is going to talk Franco through it one more time. He’ll choose one lucky reporter, and give a no holds barred interview; telling them all the gory details. The performance of a lifetime. He’s going to hit the killer in the one place he’s vulnerable – his ego. He’ll have to reveal himself. Franco says so he’s going to turn the tables; manipulate the manipulator. She says, it’s the most effective tactic. Franco says, there’s only one problem. He’s not doing it.

Ryan and Ava go to the MetroCourt. He tells Carly that he wants to order the best champagne. Ava says they’re celebrating a major event. They’re getting married. Carly asks how his wife feels about that.

Laura yells for help. Doc tells her to rest; she’s been at it for hours. She says she looked everywhere, but can’t find another exit. Their best hope is someone hearing. Doc says if anyone could hear, they’d have been there by now. He thinks they should take a step back and regroup. Besides, he missed her. She says, that’s the silver lining in this very, very dark cloud. They might be in the basement at Ferncliff held captive by a madman, but they’re together.

Finn asks if Cabot is confirming Anna was a test subject. Anna says, it never happened. Cabot says she doesn’t remember participating in the study, because she wasn’t supposed to.

Jason tells Sam that he has both of their phones set up. He can track her even if he can’t see her, but he’ll have to keep his distance. Sam says she can handle herself. Shiloh may just want to get her alone to brainwash her with DOD propaganda. Jason says, that’s what he’s worried about. She doesn’t know what she’s walking into. He tells her, keep her eyes open, and if something goes wrong, he has her back.

Cabot tells Anna that she was drugged and abducted; a necessary evil to further the cause of science. She says, he’s lying, but he asks if there aren’t stretches of time she’s missing. How else can she explain her exposure to the virus? She had no adverse reaction at the time. The virus remained dormant for years, and began to manifest, causing blindness. Anna lunges for him, but Finn takes her out in the hallway. She says she needs answers, but Finn suggests she take a minute to calm down before she strangles Cabot. She wants to smash his face. Finn says they need him to keep talking first. They need more information to confirm what they suspected about her being infected with the virus. She asks what that really tells them. It doesn’t explain Doc. He wasn’t a part of the study. His brother has been dead for twenty-five years.

Carly tells Ryan, last she heard, he was still married to Laura. Ava says she knows how to spoil a celebration, and Carly tells her there are other restaurants. Ryan says he and Laura are getting divorced. She’ll find it beneficial as well. She asks, in what universe? He says he can help with any co-parenting issues, and Avery will have one more stable person in her life. Carly says he helped her in Ferncliff, but he’s anything but stable right now. She tells them the restaurant reserves the right to refuse service, so mind their manners. When she’s gone, Ava tells Ryan he might have kicked a hornet’s nest, and Carly could cause trouble for them. He says he could just kill them.

Terry tells Elizabeth that she knows she’s been AWOL. She didn’t mean be a bad friend. Elizabeth says Oscar needed her, but Terry says she could have still found time to be a friend. When Franco was arraigned, Elizabeth was confident there had been a mistake, and he’d be exonerated. She was so sure it would work out. Elizabeth says, all that changed today. She was hoping to pull it together before her shift. Terry asks, what happened? and Elizabeth says, Franco pled guilty. He’s not guilty; that much she knows. Something else is going on.

Franco say pleading guilty in front of Elizabeth without being able to explain was horrible. Now Jordan wants him to spread the lie over the entire world. She asks what he thought the plan was? That he’d just be evaluated and it would work out? He says she wanted time to catch the killer, and he’s given it to her. She says, the killer’s ego will betray him. Franco needs to get under his skin, so the killer confronts him. Franco asks how she knows he’s not going to just get killed.

Sonny tells Robert that Dante did the WSB a favor, tracking Rog. Now they’re going to leave him? Robert says, it’s dangerous. They just can’t risk violating borders. He won’t stop until Dante is back, but he needs time. He also doesn’t need Sonny making waves. He could alert the hostiles to Dante’s whereabouts. Sonny understands, and Robert says he’ll be in touch. Robert leaves, and Sonny calls Brick, saying he needs Brick’s help.

Ava asks where Ryan has been hiding his delicious wit, and he says she brings out the best in him. She plans to do that for the rest of their lives, but says Carly had a point. They can’t move forward yet. Maybe they’re getting ahead of themselves with the celebration. He says why put their happiness on hold? and tells her to order whatever she wants, as long as it’s the best. He’ll be right back. He has to wrap up a few loose ends.

Doc tells Laura that he’s so sorry. She says it’s not his fault. He says he should have known better. He should have thought it through, and taken precautions. She says Doc was shocked that Ryan was still alive. That’s why Ryan got the jump on him.

Curtis says it must have sucked, hearing that Franco pled guilty, but Drew says he can’t shake the feeling that it’s a maneuver, and Franco has an agenda; an ulterior motive. Or maybe he’s kidding himself. Curtis says, no, he’s not. There’s more going on than Drew realizes.

Jordan tells Franco it’s a secure facility. If anyone gets in who’s unauthorized, they’ll know. He says what if it’s someone who’s authorized? Jordan gives him a burner phone, telling him to hide it. It’s only to be used as a last resort. He takes the phone, and starts dialing. She asks what he’s doing, and he says what he should have from done from the start. Tell Elizabeth the truth.

Elizabeth tells Terry that she knows Franco is innocent. There has to be another reason. Terry says, okay, and Elizabeth says Terry thinks she’s crazy. Terry says, the truth is, she doesn’t know him well, so she doesn’t share what Elizabeth has, but she has faith in Elizabeth. If she believes there’s more to the story, she trusts her. Elizabeth thanks her, and says, if Franco doesn’t trust her, she’s not sure they stand a chance.

Shiloh meets Sam at the MetroCourt, and introduces him to Carly. She’s heard about the good work he’s doing in the community; her daughter helped with the coat drive. He says she’s Kristina’s stepmom, and she says Kristina is very important to her. Sam says they should get going; it’s getting late. Outside, she says he still hasn’t told where they’re going. He says that’s because it’s a surprise. She says that’s great and all, but she has children. They’re at their grandmother’s, and she thinks it’s a good idea to let them know where she is. He tells her, placing trust in others helps us trust ourselves, which doesn’t really address what she said, but okay. He says when she sees what he has to show her, all of her doubts will disappear.

Robert joins Anna and Finn. He thinks Doc was used in the experiment, but doesn’t know if he remembers. Anna says it’s possible it took place when Ryan was still alive. Robert says good thing they have access to someone who can give them all the answers. They go into Cabot’s room, and he asks if they’ve calmed down. Anna says they have other questions, and Robert says there’s no immunity deal for him, and it will go a long way in reducing his sentence if he’s cooperative. Cabot asks what they want to know. Anna says his superiors wouldn’t sign off on a study like that unless it had a purpose. What was the objective? Cabot says to transfer the memories from one person to another.

Elizabeth tells Terry that she put all her faith in Franco. When he was considered a suspect, her trust never wavered. So much so, she married him last night at the police station. She wasn’t letting the world tell her what kind of man he is. Terry asks if her invitation got lost in the mail; no present for her. Elizabeth is sorry; she’s a mess. She thought if she cried it out, she’d feel better, but it’s not helping. Terry says Elizabeth doesn’t want to cry. She wants to scream.

Jordan tells Franco, stop. Franco says if they’re putting it out there that he’s the real killer, Elizabeth will be vulnerable. The phone makes a beeping sound, and Jordan says he’s blocked from making calls not to her. She knows it’s tough, but promises the less Elizabeth knows, the safer she’ll be.

Doc tells Laura, it’s ironic. He spent months having conversations with her; what he’d say, how he’d say it, if he had the chance. Now here she is, warm and real, and by his side, and he can’t find the words. She says, don’t try so hard. Just say how he feels. Ryan let’s himself in, and asks how the big reunion is going. Isn’t Laura a sight for sore eyes? Oops. He guesses not. Doc says it’s not like him. Whenever he visits, he risks being seen. Why take the chance? Unless his elaborate charade is beginning to unravel. Laura says Doc may be right. Ryan looks hairy, flustered, nervous. Ryan says he’s totally committed to his course of action. He came finish what he started. He takes out a knife.

Sam and Shiloh enter what looks like a lighthouse. Shiloh says, we’re here, and Sam asks, where is here? I don’t catch the name, but it’s some lake. Sam says she’s never heard of it, and he says it’s in a corner of Lake Ontario. He says the tower used to be taken care of by the harbor master, but it’s been vacant for a long time. I wonder why it looks like someone lives there. There are even coats hanging by the door. Shiloh says when he left Afghanistan, he was looking for a way to change his life, but had no idea how. He wandered aimlessly, and found the tower. He’d never heard of it, and never been there. Call it fate. She asks why he thinks he was led there, and he holds out his hand. She hesitates, but takes it, and they go up the stairs. Jason comes in, and follows, but stays way behind.

Terry tells Elizabeth crying hasn’t worked because she’s not sad. Elizabeth says Franco just pled guilty to multiple murders. Terry says she can feel sorry, but she must be furious that he was keeping her in the dark too. She’s angry, and needs to feel it. Let it out, so she can get on with her day. If she needs to scream, go ahead. It’s just her. Feel the anger, and scream at everyone who let her down or underestimated her. Let it out. Elizabeth lets loose with a scream. Terry says, better? and Elizabeth laughs, saying, a little, yeah. Terry asks if there’s more in her, and she says, yeah.

Jordan tells Franco that she’s moving in a detective she can trust, but until then, he has to do his part. She says he has to call his lawyer on the Ferncliff landline, and have him set up the interview. He says, convince him this is another good plan, but she says she’s late to dinner with her son. She’s about to leave, and her phone rings. Franco says he had to be sure it worked.

Drew asks Curtis if Jordan told him something. Curtis says she’s holding her cards close. Let’s just say his hunch is that Drew’s hunch is correct. He can’t see the big picture, just pieces. It’s not much, but it’s something.

Laura tells Ryan not to get any closer, and tells Doc, he has a knife. Ryan says, not quite, but it will do the trick. Doc stands in front of Laura, and says Ryan will have to go through him first. Ryan says Doc is jumpy. He’s not there to take their lives, as satisfying as it sounds. He needs something first. Laura says he has an envelope, and Ryan says, which he’s using his letter opener to open. It’s his signed duplicate of their divorce papers; her divorce papers. His lawyer wanted him to mail them, but he knew she wouldn’t be at home. So if she doesn’t mind… He holds them out, but she slaps them out of his hand, and says, go to hell. He says, it’s tempting, but there’s someplace else he’d rather be. Laura says he wants to sever ties with her so he can marry Ava, but she’s not helping him hurt Ava more than he has already. He thinks she should review this. He’s armed, stronger than them, and can see. It can play out to its long, bloody conclusion, or she can cooperate. What’s it going to be?

Sonny sees Ava sipping champagne, and asks Carly what she’s doing there. Carly says, celebrating her engagement to Doc. He asks if she’s stressed, but she says, not one bit. She asks where he went, and he says he met with Robert. It wasn’t good news. The WSB can’t go after Dante without a diplomatic incident. She says, so he’s planning on going?

Ryan says he could just kill them, and Doc tells him to stay the hell away from Laura, stepping in front of her. Ryan asks where his calm, shrinky demeanor is. Ryan tells Laura to get behind Doc, so he can mortally wound him, and leave him bleed out, while he ends her life. She says she’ll sign. He thought she might. She signs the top paper, and he says she forgot the yellow stickies. She signs the other pages, which I might add are LOUD papers. Ryan takes the papers, holds out his hand for the pen, and I laugh. He leaves, and Laura tells Doc, he’s gone. They hug.

Cabot says, the study produced a painless, efficient way to extract information. There was no need for torture or coercion. They could just transfer the memories to someone else. Anna and her sister were in the first trial. Anna asks if he’s trying to say her memories were extracted and given to Alex. Cabot says, it’s the other way around. Finn says the study must have been a bust. Anna doesn’t have Alex’s memories. He failed. Anna says, no, he didn’t.

Shiloh tells Sam no one lives there, but it’s far from empty. She understands this place is special to him, but what happened here? She does something with her phone. Jason is coming up the stairs, and can hear what they’re saying. Shiloh says he came looking for a purpose. He was drawn to the shore. Standing there, looking at the vast expanse of water in the moonlight, he saw what he thought would be his shelter. He came in and found this room. He curled up on the floor, and fell asleep. He was cold and alone, but a few hours later, he was awakened by a brilliant light, a powerful light. The break of dawn was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Sam says, Dawn of Day, and he says, precisely. His moment of clarity. Right then, he knew his calling was to bring light to as many people as he could. Sam says it’s a beautiful story, but she doesn’t know why he couldn’t tell her in Port Charles. He says she has to experience it personally. It’s very intimate. When she sees the dawn break, she’ll know her path. Is he going to slip her drugs? Because yeah, it’s nice story, and I’m sure a gorgeous daybreak, but does he really think he can get over on a serious con artist with a sunrise?

Sonny tells Carly that he talked to Brick. He can get across the border. Carly says Brick can get Sonny in, but can Brick get him out in one piece? Sonny says, Brick is a professional. He doesn’t want to leave her, and won’t be gone long. She tells him, go. Bring Dante home to meet his new brother or sister.

Elizabeth thanks Terry for forcing her to get that out. She thinks she can handle going work now. She gets out of the car. Terry offers to cover for her, make a show of how sick she is, like in high school. Remember the excuses she used to write? Elizabeth says, thanks, but no. She actually needs work. Terry says she’s still a night owl. If Elizabeth’s shift ends, and she needs a friend to talk, have a drink with, or scream, she’s there. They hug. I’d love to see more of Terry. She’s a very charming character.

Franco tells Scotty that he needs to ask a favor. Get in touch with someone from The Invader for him. He thinks it’s time to tell the world his side of the story.

Ryan returns to the MetroCourt. He hands Ava the papers, saying he had a hunch, and went back to his office. Those were waiting for him. Laura signed. He guesses she decided to put their marriage to bed. He toasts to them, saying, nothing can stand in their way now. They clink glasses.

Laura says Doc must be disappointed in her, but he says, no. He’s glad she did it. Nothing would delight Ryan more than to take the person he loves the most away, knowing he’s powerless to stop it. Laura asks if that’s what it was like living with Ryan; if he destroyed everything Doc created. He says no part of his life was safe. He’s sorry for everything she’s been through with him. Laura says their marriage is off, and it leaves Ryan free to do God knows what to Ava. It never occurred to her. Everyone thought he was dead twenty-five years ago. Doc says, it doesn’t matter. They’re together, and if they get out of this, he’ll marry her all over again. They kiss.

Sam says, sunrise is hours away, and Shiloh says it’s not like she has someone to go home to. Spend the night with him. She’ll see. Jason takes out his gun.

Drew calls Elizabeth, leaving a message. He says they need to talk about Franco. He gets in his car, and backs out of the spot.

Finn says, Anna has Alex’s memories? She says the memories weren’t transferred to her, but Andre took the study to use as a basis for his procedure. He built on the work already done. This means there are two other unwilling participants in the study.

Drew gets a headache while he’s driving out of the garage. His vision becomes blurry.

Jason’s vision becomes blurry, and he tumbles down the stairs. Sam hears, and runs out. She sees Jason at the bottom of the stairs, and runs down to him. She asks if he can hear her.

Walking through the parking garage, Jordan calls Chase.

Drew passes out, and his car hits Jordan.

On Monday, Curtis asks Stella what’s going on, Maxie tells Peter the results are in, and Valentin asks Peter for a favor.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Sam brought Jason something. Danny made him a card. She tells him the scribble is from Scout. He loves it. She loves him. She hates that they’ll be separated on Valentine’s Day, but says she knows it counts least as a holiday. He agrees that he’s not a huge Valentine’s Day celebrating person, but he’s looking forward to celebrating with her. She asks if she can get that in writing. He says she knows he loves being with her. She has to go to the party, then she’s picking up the kids up, but she doesn’t have to leave now. They kiss.

Shiloh tells Kristina, job well done. She must be proud. She says she can’t take credit; she had help. He asks if she has any idea when her sister is arriving.

Franco is thrilled to see Elizabeth, but says she shouldn’t be there. She has a family to look after. She says one member of her family is at the police station. He’s part of her family, and she wonders when that is going to sink in. He says there’s nothing she can do for him. She says, maybe not, but there’s something she can do for them. They’ve been putting it off for too long. She wants to marry him. He says he wants to marry her too. She says, let’s do it. Right here right now.

At the MetroCourt, Ned and Olivia wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Ned says this time they got it right. Olivia agrees they haven’t had the best luck with that, but Ned says, this year, it’s going to change. He slides a keycard over to her. He says, not just any room; 610. He asks her to let him set the scene. Her, drunk as a skunk, about to adopt every dog in the animal shelter. That’s the night he fell in love with her, and he’s been falling ever since. They kiss. I have no idea what he’s talking about, so I must have missed that episode.

In bed, Carly tells Sonny, making love in the middle of the afternoon is a luxury. Sonny says, Valentine’s Day is just getting started. She says she thought they agreed not to exchange any gifts, but he says he loves to surprise her.

Robert tells Cabot, come on. He knows there are certain aspects of his research he never intended to be made public. Cabot asks why he should tell them, and Anna says, if he doesn’t answer their questions, he won’t get his sight back. He knows that voice. Alex Devane. Anna says, yes; it’s me.

Sonny tells Carly, it’s been a hard year; everything with his father. He leaned on her. She says they’re a team, but he says he couldn’t have done it without her. He needs her. Always. He doesn’t say it enough. He loves her and appreciates her, and there’s no one he’d rather walk this crazy world with. She says, funny he should say that. He tells her that he made reservations for dinner, and they have to get going. He got the best table, and doesn’t want to lose it. It will be a night to remember. She laughs, and when he’s out of earshot, she says, you could say that again.

Kristina says she’s sure Sam will show up soon, and Shiloh tells her to let him know. Valerie walks in, and Kristina say she didn’t know Valerie was coming. Valerie says Kristina did invite her. Along with everyone else on her MyFace page, but it was an invite. Kristina thought Valerie had been avoiding her, but Valerie says it’s totally forgotten. She’s sorry she overreacted. She was caught off guard, and didn’t handle it gracefully. Kristina says, and she did? Valerie wants to be friends again, if that’s cool. Kristina says, absolutely. Shiloh wonders where Sam is.

Spinelli arrives at Jason’s place. He hopes he’s not interrupting. Is he? Sam says, it’s okay. She was just leaving. She’s going to the Dawn of Day party. Spinelli implores her, proceed with caution. From what he’s uncovered, Shiloh is quite dangerous. He’ll fill Jason in. Sam says she’ll see Jason tomorrow. Jason tells her, be safe. When she’s gone, Jason asks Spinelli, how dangerous is he? Spinelli says, murderously so

Cabot asks, is it Alex Devane or Alex Merrick now? It’s been far too long Anna says, it has. Because of a bounty on her head, she couldn’t make herself known sooner. He asks, why now? and she says she needs to know about the project they worked on together. He says, wait. She’s not Alex. She’s the other one.

Franco says Elizabeth is joking. He asks if she realizes it’s just the two of them, and she says she realizes they keep putting it off because life gets in the way, and she’s done. It’s time they get in life’s way. He says, no. She can’t marry an accused killer behind bars. It’s not the wedding of her dreams, or what she deserves. She says all she needs is him. What does he say? Will he marry her?

Spinelli tells Jason, the story Shiloh spun is that his father was a ruined man after Sam wiped out his finances. It’s a compelling story, but far from complete. After Sam fled, Shiloh’s father registered a patent, and there was a bidding war over the rights. He was on his way to another fortune. Jason asks, what stopped him? and Spinelli says, his death. The brakes failed on his car. It was a freakish accident, considering it was a brand new high end vehicle. Jason asks if Spinelli thinks the brakes were tampered with, but Spinelli says, that’s unclear. He needs to do more digging. Jason says, do that. Start with what happened to the patent.

Shiloh is glad Sam made it. Kristina watches them, and Valerie asks if she’s okay. Does she need to talk? Kristina says if anyone should apologize, it should be her for getting the wrong idea. She’s been talking about it in group sessions. She tells Valerie, this place is amazing. They listen without judgement. She used to beat herself up over mistakes, but the truth is, there are no mistakes. Shiloh taught her, every choice, right or wrong, lays a brick in the path we walk. Every choice leads you to the now. Knowing that is the first step to self-acceptance. Valerie says, it sounds nice.

Shiloh hands Sam his book, and says, a gift. She says she already read it; cover to cover. He says, and…? She says she couldn’t help notice there was something missing – him.

At the MetroCourt, Sonny says he wanted to take Carly someplace else, but it is the best food in town. Is she okay with it? She says she’s okay with anywhere, as long as she’s with him. He tells the waitress that he ordered champagne, and she leaves to get it. He slides an envelope over to Carly. He asks if she remembers when they got married, they made a list of places they wanted to go. She says they’ve gone to almost all of them. He says, except one. Azores. Carly thought it was too difficult to get too, but Sonny was convinced otherwise. He says they’re leaving in three weeks. She seems hesitant, and he asks if she doesn’t want to go. She says she doesn’t know if she’s able to. He asks, why?

Anna says Cabot is mistaken, but he says, don’t bother denying it. He knows her sister quite well. Let him guess. That isn’t a medical colleague either. Robert says, Robert Scorpio, WSB. Anna says, who they are doesn’t change a damn thing. If he wants his sight back, he’ll have to answer questions, or her friend won’t treat him. Cabot says they’ve already overplayed their hand. He appreciates the attempt to trade on his familiarity with Dr. Merrick, but it’s apparent this is part of a WSB investigation. If they want his cooperation, they have to treat him first.

Sam noticed there’s not much in the book about Shiloh’s family. She knows about them, but doesn’t know anything about him. They sit. She remembers he told her that he never wanted to settle down, and his followers are his family, but is that entirely true? There had to be someone he was serious about at some point. Shiloh says his father’s personal experience left him closed off to sharing his life with another person. Sam says he means his father’s experience with her.

Sonny asks if Carly has too much work. She says they have a lot going on in general. There’s been a lot of turmoil in the past year; too much. She thinks life is like childbirth. Problems cause agony when you’re going through them, but when you get to the other side, the pain fades, and you’re left with the good. They’ve had trying times in the past year, but also beautiful moments she’s grateful for. Sonny says he’s grateful for her. She made him see it was important to spend time with his dad. She saw that, knew that, and helped him wrap his mind around it. Carly says she sounds amazing. Sonny says she’s not just an amazing mother, but an amazing wife. She’s his friend, and she loves him, period. it means a lot to him. Carly asks if he’s trying to make her cry. He says, no. he’s trying to get her to give him a kiss. She says she loves him.

Sam wonders how could Shiloh put himself out there, when he’s been so burned? He supposes it makes sense, but that’s not the only reason. He realized in order to find happiness, he had to find peace within himself. Sam says that resonates with her. He asks when she’s going to stop running, and find peace within herself?

Franco tells Elizabeth that his heart is so filled with her. He won’t marry her there. She asks, why not? and he says because he’s in jail, and no one is there to marry them. Unless Cliff is ordained. He calls over to the guard, and asks if he’s ordained. Cliff laughs, and Franco says he thinks that’s a no. Elizabeth says she thought about that recruited a person for the job. Drew comes in, saying, I heard you crazy kids want to get married.

Elizabeth thanks Drew for coming. Drew says she approached him last night, and she says she thought someone important to them both should do the honors. Franco asks if he’s ordained, and Drew says, it’s so easy, it’s frightening. Franco says they have no witness. He calls to Cliff, who asks, what now? Franco asks if it isn’t his job to keep eye on them. By definition, he thinks makes Cliff a witness. He tells Elizabeth that it’s insane. She knows, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Valerie tells Kristina, now that they’re not avoiding each other, they can hang out again. Kristina says there are some great introductory seminars that she thinks would be perfect for Valerie. She’ll get a brochure.

Shiloh puts hands on each side of Sam’s face, and tells her, close her eyes. He says they get so sidetracked on their path, their thoughts become robots. They worry about the past, which is behind us, and the future is just imagination. What’s important is the present; the here and now. He asks, when is she? and Sam says, now. Kristina watches Shiloh touching Sam’s face.

Spinelli tells Jason, the plan is for him and Sam to focus on Hank/Shiloh, and he’ll focus on the father, and whatever fate befell him. Jason is sorry Spinelli isn’t with Ellie on Valentine’s Day, but Spinelli says he took the precaution of booking a flight home. Jason tells him, have fun, and tell Ellie that they said hi. Spinelli missed the sound of we. Jason says, the patent first, and Spinelli says he’ll call. Jason thanks him, and Spinelli spontaneously hugs him.

Kristina tells Sam and Shiloh, sorry to interrupt. Sam tells her to stay, but she says she has to go back to the event. She goes back to Valerie, wanting to show her the brochure, but Valerie has to get going. She has an early shift. She thanks Kristina, and says, it was fun. Call her. It’s great that she wants to spend time together. They hug. Valerie leaves, and Kristina looks panicked.

Sam gets up, and Shiloh asks if she’s leaving. Sam thinks it’s a good idea. It’s Kristina’s place; her home. She doesn’t want Kristina to think she’s stepping on her thing. Shiloh says, if Kristina thinks that, she’s not observing their tenets. She tells him, she’s trying to be sensitive; that’s all. He understands, and asks if she’ll come again. She says, yes, of course. She’ll see him around. He looks over at Kristina.

Outside, Sam calls Jason. She says she’s on her way out to pick up the kids. He asks how it went, and she says, good. He asks if she talked to Shiloh, and she says, it was pretty creepy. It’s so weird how he gets people to do things for him, and think it’s their idea. He asks about Kristina, and Sam says, she was pretty possessive. She thinks Kristina has a thing for Shiloh. Jason says, they’ll figure it out, and she tells him that she’ll see him tomorrow. He tells her, happy Valentine’s Day, and she asks if it killed him to say that. He says, no; he loves her. She says she loves him too.

Shiloh tells Kristina that her sister knows a lot about him. Kristina noticed they spent a lot of time together, and admits it bothers her. She doesn’t think she’s as enlightened as she ought to be, but he tells her not to be too hard on herself. He asks what level she’s at, and she says she’s only done the introductory course. He says the kind of enlightenment he’s talking about isn’t touched on until later. She says she doesn’t have the money for those courses. He says if she needed surgery, she’d find the money. Perhaps she should think about paying the same attention and importance to her soul. It’s something to think about. Can you say Scientology?

Finn tells Cabot, the terms are non-negotiable. Cabot says everything is negotiable. It’s not just hi vision on the line. If he answers their questions, he’ll be betraying people who could retaliate by killing him. If they want him to risk death, the operation comes first. Anna says, fine. Finn will neutralize the virus, and then talk. Cabot says, deal. Robert says he’ll make the arrangements. Cabot says he likes Anna

The news breaks in. Then when they come back, it’s to a commercial. Thanks, ABC.

Anna tells Cabot the feeling isn’t mutual. He says she has the same tenacity as her sister. How is she? She doesn’t know; they’re not in contact. He supposes he’s not surprised. They were always like oil and water. Robert comes back, saying the travel arrangements are made. They’re staying in a hotel tonight, and flying to Port Charles in the morning. Cabot says, fantastic. Anna thanks Robert, and he says, don’t mention it. He means it. He had to violate twelve protocols to move this bastard. He says, ready, doc? and wheels him out. Finn asks if Anna is okay. She says, something he said… It’s probably nothing. He tells her, happy Valentine’s Day, but she says they probably missed it. He says it’s a Swedish clock, but he’s still on Port Charles time. He kisses her.

Franco asks, what about rings? but Drew says Elizabeth thought about that, and shows him the wedding rings. Franco is impressed. He thinks Drew has a bright future as a wedding planner. Franco says Drew doesn’t have to do this, but it means a lot. Drew says he’s connected to Elizabeth through the boys, and they’ve been through some stuff. He thinks of Franco as a brother. One he’d like to choke half the time, nonetheless. He asks Franco to do him a favor. Treat Elizabeth right. She’s one of the good ones. Franco knows. Elizabeth comes back, and they join hands.

There’s a music part. Olivia and Ned get busy. Why are they even in this episode? Carly and Sonny kiss. Sam goes to Jason’s place, and let’s herself in. He asks, what about the kids? She says Monica wanted to take them somewhere, and it was hard to say no. They get busy.

Elizabeth says she didn’t know what expect when Franco came into her life. She never guessed he’d teach her the most important lesson she’d ever learn. Love is completely, unabashedly, insane, and the craziest thing of all is, that’s what makes it so beautiful. She’s forever grateful, and she’ll love, honor, and cherish him until death they do part. Drew says it’s Franco’s turn. Franco says, this is all he’s got. He loves her, and hopes it’s enough. He’s totally down for more loving, cherishing, and honoring. He loves her. He says, Elizabeth Imogene Webber, till death do they part. Drew tells him, well said, and asks if Elizabeth takes Franco as her husband. She does.

Drew asks if Franco takes Elizabeth to be his wife. He does. Drew says, by the power vested in him by the internet, he pronounces them husband and wife. They kiss through the bars.

Jason and Sam bask in the afterglow. She asks where he got the flowers, and he says he asked the flower lady. She thinks he means the florist. He asked what she suggested for someone who doesn’t like a big deal, but secretly likes holidays. Sam asks if she picked them out, but he says she told him whoever it was is a lucky woman, and went to the next customer. He asks if it was a bad choice. Sam says, it was a good choice. The florist was right; she’s a lucky woman. She wants to be nowhere else but with him. Jason gets it now. The point of Valentine’s day isn’t about chocolate and flowers. It’s about not taking love for granted. It’s about saying those words. He loves her so much. She loves him too. They kiss, and probably get busy again, but we don’t see that.

Ned asks Olivia who she’s calling. She says, the animal shelter; who does he think? She’s calling room service. They should open another bottle. He’s in. All in with her, forever. She says, room service can wait.

Back home, Sonny asks if Carly wants a drink. She says, no. She wants to sit with him for a second. He asks if she’s okay, and she says she’s great. She was just thinking about life, them, everything. How it has its ups and downs. she thinks as long as they have each other, and hold on to that connection, they can handle anything life throws at them. He says, sounds great, and she says, good. She’s pregnant.

Tomorrow, Maxie tells Peter the secret is about Sasha, Lulu says Franco is going to get what’s coming to him, and Carly asks if Sonny doesn’t want this baby.

🔪 On Top Chef, Art Smith was a guest judge for the Quickfire challenge, a spice taste test while blindfolded. I noted that Padma should really lose the white eyeliner. No. Just no. Sara was the winner, naming all twelve spices she tasted. The next challenge was for the chefs to create their own spice blend in honor of KFC’s Colonel Sanders. Courtesy of Art, we find out the Colonel didn’t achieve success until age sixty. There’s hope! The chefs only had a half hour to fry up some chicken. There was no elimination escape, but there was a $5000 prize. Sara was the big winner there too, totally redeeming herself from the boxed biscuit fiasco last week. Next, for the elimination challenge, the chefs had to work together on a progressive menu based on six of Muhammad Ali’s most memorable fights. The dinner was served at a charity gala being held at the Muhammad Ali Center, with Laila Ali as guest judge. Gail Simmons was also back, after having her baby. Eric came out on top, with something called fufu, a plantain dish from Africa. His course also represented the Rumble in the Jungle, aka the Ali vs George Foreman fight in 1974. Eddie had to gather up his knives and take a hike, the judges feeling he didn’t go far enough. He said being in the competition was about confidence and getting out of his own shell, and he thought he came out a better person and chef. Next time, who knows? I wasn’t paying attention. But in the useless brush-with-celebrity trivia department, I once saw Muhammad Ali in an elevator and he smiled at me, making my heart go pitty-pat.

General Hospital

Margaux runs into Sonny coming out of the elevator. He asks if she’s on her way to prosecute Franco. She says she’s not bound tell him anything about the investigation, but he says he already knows Franco was ID’d.

Alexis asks Scotty if he had a rough night. He says, wouldn’t she like to know, but she says, actually, no. He asks what he can do for her. She has an update on Gail’s will. His phone buzzes. It’s Elizabeth, who’s been calling all night. He says he’s having a problem with modern technology. She tells him Franco has been arrested.

Jordan comes into the interrogation room, and asks if she should call Franco Mr. Baldwin or Franco. He says call him a lawyer. She says she’s just there to apprise him about the situation. He’s going to be remanded to Pentonville; no bail. They’re compiling evidence, and searching the house and the art therapy room. He says, search away. He’s going to sue them for false imprisonment and harassment. And when he’s done suing them, he’s going to own Port Charles.

Elizabeth sees the police tossing the art therapy room, and asks, what’s going on? Chase says they have a warrant. She asks why they’re making a mess. They’ve ripped the patients’ artwork apart, after they invaded her house. She asks if they don’t respect anything or anyone. Griff comes by, and suggests she take a second outside with him.

Not-Doc talks to himself, saying, Franco had such talent. It’s logical that he’d revisit it. He did. Ava comes in, and asks if he knew. He says she’ll have to be more specific. She says he knew Lulu ID’d her attacker, and someone was arrested, but she hasn’t found out their name. He says it’s standard protocol, since no formal charges have been filed. She asks, what about the right of the victim? Someone should have told her. The sick bastard who killed her daughter was caught, and he knew. He says she knows how it works, and there are two other reasons for not revealing the name. To help facilitate the investigation, and to protect the suspect from someone seeking retribution. She says, like her? and he says, no. Like him.

Oscar, Drew, and Kim wait in Terry’s office. Terry arrives, and says she has Oscar’s latest test results. Drew tells her to give them some good news. She shows them pictures of the scans, and says the progression shows the scan at the onset, where there’s considerable growth into the brain tissue. Compared to the end result, the tumor is slightly larger. They took a third scan this morning, and there are no discernible differences. Oscar says, the tumor has stopped growing? Terry says they’ve gotten a mild reprieve.

At Charlie’s, Julian asks Josslyn what he can get for her. She says she’s meeting Oscar, but he has an appointment, so she isn’t sure when he’ll get there. Julian is surprised they’re not going to Kelly’s, but she says Oscar likes the food at Charlie’s. Julian regrets letting Josslyn mess with his head. He’s not letting a teenager rule his life again. She says Oscar’s parents can now focus on him, and Julian is free to be with someone more his type. He’s welcome.

Griff asks Elizabeth why the police are there. Elizabeth tells Chase that everything had better be put back before Franco sees it. Chase says he’s in custody, and they don’t anticipate his release anytime soon. Griff asks, what happened? and Elizabeth says, they think Franco attacked Lulu.

On the phone, Scotty asks for case histories on hypnotism. He also wants dossiers on Doc and Lulu. He tells Alexis he has to go. She asks where the fire is, and he says, the PCPD. He asks what the bottom line is. Did a cousin come out of the woodwork? Alexis says the delay is by design, and the details aren’t going to be revealed until April 1st. Does the date mean anything to him? Surprisingly, he doesn’t make a joke about April Fool’s Day, but says he’ll have to cancel his trip to the Bahamas. He thanks her for illuminating the situation. She leaves, and she opens her copy of Shiloh’s book, Every Day is a New Dawn.

Sonny tells Margaux it wouldn’t be the first time Franco nearly killed Lulu. Margaux is aware of the history. Before his brain tumor was removed, Franco created art installations based on the murders he committed. He was fixated on Jason, and terrorized everyone associated with him; Sam, Michael, Dante, and Lulu. Sonny says, then he used the brain tumor defense, and walked away free. He doesn’t want Franco getting away with it again.

Ava tells not-Doc it’s sweet of him to be her avenging angel, but it’s not his style. The retribution part doesn’t quite fit. He says she’s spent too long a time fighting for her place in the world alone. That’s over now. He’s by her side. She says he’s too good for her, and he tells her that’s the first time anyone has said that. She says surely Lucy or Laura would have said something, but he says, don’t bring up their names. They didn’t know him like she does, or inspire him like she does. She’s everything to him. If someone hurts her, they hurt him, and he will exact payment. He’d do anything for her. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Chase, who asks if has the file. Not-Doc asks if he has the warrant, and Chase gives it to him. Not-Doc wants to put it on the record that this goes against what he believes as a psychiatrist. Chase says, even if it prevents another murder? Ava asks if this is about Kiki’s killer, and if it’s one of not-Doc’s patients. Not-Doc tells Chase she’s going to find out soon enough, and tells Ava they believe Franco is the killer.

Elizabeth tells Griff that they took Aiden ice skating, and everything was fine until Jordan showed up. Lulu ID’d Franco as her attacker. Griff asks if Elizabeth thinks she’s lying, and Elizabeth says she thinks Lulu is confused. She believes Franco. She knows him, and knows didn’t attack anyone. They have a beautiful life. He would never throw that away. She has faith in him. Griff says he’s realized, faith isn’t something you just have; you choose it. If you don’t examine your beliefs, you’re just blind.

Scotty blows into the police station, and asks, where is he? Jordan says if he’s referring to Franco, he’s in the interrogation room. He asks, how bad is it? and she says, Lulu identified Franco as her attacker. Scotty says, sorry, but Lulu isn’t exactly a reliable source. Jordan says, Doc performed hypnotherapy, and Lulu was clear. If they get confirmation of her account, Franco is in a lot of trouble.

Ava says, Franco loved Kiki like she was his own. There’s no way he’d hurt her. Chase says he hasn’t been charged yet, but they know he’s connected. She asks what evidence they have, and what plans are there to file charges? Chase is sorry, and hopes her questions are answered soon. He leaves, and she asks not-Doc how long Franco has been suspected. He seemed at the ready with the file. He knew this was coming. He says, only since last night. He was there when Franco was arrested. She says it didn’t occur to him to tell her? He says, there was nothing definite. He thought they’d wake up to the news Franco was released. Apparently, Lulu’s statement was enough cause to hold him. The last Ava knew, Lulu couldn’t remember. He says, with help, she was able get past her memory block. Ava asks, what help? and not-Doc says, not what, whose. His.

Alexis watches Sonny talking to Margaux. Margaux says she doesn’t want the case tainted, and Sonny says it never crossed his mind. She tells him, don’t kid a kidder. She doesn’t need him ignoring or circumventing the law. He feels like she’s still after him or his family, but she says she doesn’t have it out for him. She has it out for lawbreakers. He’s just a humble coffee importer. She tells him, just keep roasting his beans, and keep his hands clean, and there will be no trouble. He wonders where he’s heard that before. She says he’s hearing it from her now. She decided to let it go and move on. She’s living in the present, and not ruled by her past – or his. She gets into the elevator, and Alexis and Sonny smile at each other.

Oscar says this means he can get going and meet Josslyn. They can finish up themselves. He wants to give her good news for a change. He dashes out, and Terry says it’s nice to see him in high spirits. Kim asks if she has anything else, and Terry says they’ll continue to monitor him. She tells them, keep in mind that, although the tumor didn’t grow, it didn’t shrink. Drew says, it’s not a miracle. Terry says, it’s a reprieve.  A temporary one. The prognosis remains same.

Sonny sits with Alexis. He notices she’s reading the book, and says Jason isn’t thrilled with Kristina’s new friends. She knows he doesn’t approve, and Sonny asks if she does. She says she’s not weighing in on her adult daughter’s choices – anymore. Sonny says she’s met Shiloh. Doesn’t she think he’s a little off? She says, the whole thing is weird. He says Kristina doesn’t think so. Alexis says she’d like Kristina to have a conventional life, but that’s what she wants, not Kristina. Neither of them have had conventional lives. She wonders what Sonny’s mother would think of his choices.

Terry says everything depends on how long this lasts, but eventually the disease will progress. The symptoms will become more pronounced, and his condition will deteriorate. His life will become more difficult. It’s in his, and their, best interest to have a plan, but there’s no need to get into it now. It’s a respite for them too. Take a breath, and treat themselves. Take Oscar on a trip. Enjoy each other’s company. Create memories they can keep forever. I like Terry, and hope she gets a real storyline someday.

Elizabeth doesn’t think Griff should be giving her advice on faith, having it or keeping it. He says he doesn’t want her to get hurt, but she says, too late. The man she loves has been wrongfully accused and locked up. When you love someone, you leave yourself wide open for heartache. Hasn’t he learned that? She asks Chase, how much longer? and he says they’re almost finished. He asks if an officer found something useful, and the officer tells him, have a look. Chase says, damn. Bag it. The commissioner will want to see it asap.

Margaux arrives at the station, and asks Jordan what’s the status on the suspect. She says he’s on hold, and conferring with counsel. Scotty just got there.

Scotty asks Franco how it’s going, and what did he tell them? Franco says he didn’t do it, and asks how Elizabeth is. Scotty says, she’s okay. They did a search of the house. Franco assumes the boys were home, and says, damn (WOTD). Aiden has been having a hard time, and Jake is just getting over his PTSD. It can’t be easy to see the cops going through their stuff. Scotty tells him, don’t worry. He’ll straighten it out when he gets out. Franco says, if Scotty gets him released.

Jordan tells Margaux, Lulu’s statement is compelling, but there’s not much physical evidence. Franco’s alibi is thin, but there’s no DNA evidence. It makes the case harder to build. Margaux reads through the file, and likes how the case is going, but Jordan says, it’s not a slam dunk. She gets a text message, and says, the case is getting stronger by the minute.

Not-Doc tells Ava that he’s licensed to practice hypnotherapy, and he’s good at it. He was tasked to help Lulu regain her memory, and he did. She says it couldn’t have been Franco, but he says Lulu was more than certain; she was viscerally terrified. Ava asks if it’s possible she saw someone who resembled Franco, or is mixing two memories. Not-Doc says, she clearly recalled Franco showing up at her office with a knife. In all likelihood, he’s responsible for the other murders. She says, something doesn’t feel right. He says she was so determined to find justice. Why isn’t she relieved? She says she witnessed Franco’s transformation first hand. The man he is now isn’t capable of harming someone he loved as much as Kiki. Not-Doc tells her, don’t try unraveling a serial killer’s mind. It will make you crazy. He tried with his brother. Ava says he was treating Franco. If Franco was unraveling, he would have noticed. Or did he?

Alexis tells Sonny that she’s not blind to the drawbacks, but Kristina is happier. She came back from Oregon with a broken spirit, and full of self-doubt. Now she’s happier. She’s working, maintaining herself, and they’re getting along. Sonny asks if she thinks it has to do with Shiloh, but she says it doesn’t matter who influenced her. She tells Sonny that she went to one of the seminars. He asks if it changed her life, and she says, oh yeah; she’s meditating now. She says it wasn’t horrible, and she had a moment. Sonny asks what the seminar was about, and she says, maintaining relationships while keeping your independence. He asks if her moment had anything to do with Julian.

Julian brings Josslyn the oatmeal she ordered, and she says she asked for strawberries. She asks why he’s being rude, but he says he’s keeping a healthy distance. Isn’t that what she wanted? She tells him what she said about Oscar and his family is the truth. Just because he doesn’t want to hear it, doesn’t mean it will go away. He says she sounds like her mother; a champion meddler. Carly needs to keep her nose out of other people’s business, and so should she. She says, Oscar is her business, but he says Kim isn’t. She says, it’s working; they’re a family. Julian says they’ll always be a family, no matter what. Josslyn asks what he means, and he says he and Kim are back together. Her little plot has come to an end. Oscar comes in, and says, what little plot?

Griff helps Elizabeth put the art therapy room back together. He rubs his shoulder, and she asks if he’s okay. He says he just overdid it at the gym. I’m assuming this exchange was for a reason that we’ll find out some other time. She thanks him, and looks at a drawing. He asks if she found something, and she says, a sketch. We see a cartoon of them in a car that says, just married. She says it’s an invitation to the wedding that keeps getting pushed back. There’s always something in the way. Griff supposes they’ll have to put it off longer. Elizabeth jets with the sketch, and when Griff turns around, she’s gone.

Franco tells Scotty that they’re saying he’s a serial killer who’s killed three people, including Kiki. Scotty says, they’re biased. It will work in his favor when they go to trial. Franco says, trial? They haven’t got enough to hold him, let alone connect him to the murders. Jordan and Margaux walk in. Jordan says she has some questions for Scotty’s client. Scotty says, he didn’t do it. Margaux would like to know about hi relationship with Doc. How would he characterize their sessions? Scotty says, don’t answer, but Franco says he’d characterize them as therapy. Why is she asking? Jordan asks what they discuss, and Scotty says, that’s privileged. Franco says, they discuss a lot; his childhood. Margaux asks if they discuss his bloodlust, and Franco says, what is he? A werewolf? He doesn’t have bloodlust. Jordan says, Dr. Collins disagrees.

Ava says not-Doc told Franco that he’d plateaued, and stopped seeing him. Not-Doc says he changed his mind. He thought maybe he’d been hasty, and they had more work to do. He asks why she’s grilling him, and she says there’s something he’s not telling her. Something captured his attention; what was it? He says he can’t discuss it, but she says she’s bound to find out. Tell her the truth. Was he concerned that Franco was capable of violence again, and a danger to others? Not-Doc says, yes.

Alexis tells Sonny that she no longer has a relationship with Julian. It’s not like Sonny is the guru of relationships. She suggests they stay out of each other’s personal lives. He wants to talk about Kristina, but Alexis thinks he should talk to Kristina. She gives him the book, and says maybe he should go to a seminar. He could stand to evolve a few million years. Sonny laughs, and she leaves.

Josslyn asks Oscar how the doctor’s appointment when, and he says he has decent news. The tumor has stopped growing. She says, amazing, and hugs him. She asks if this means the treatment worked, and the tumor is shrinking. He says he didn’t say that. It’s a reprieve. She says that’s good enough for her. They should celebrate. Oscar says, after she tells him what Julian was talking about. She says, literally nothing; it’s stupid. He says, just tell him, and she says, fine. She asked Julian to take himself out of the equation. Oscar asks, what equation? Josslyn tells him that she wanted Julian to give up Oscar’s mom so she could get closer to his dad, and he could have them both. It lasted five minutes. Julian just told her they’re back together. Oscar takes her hand, and says he appreciates what she’s trying to do, but he thinks they should let his parents do what they’re going to do without their help. She asks if he’s mad at her for meddling. He says, no, but if he gets to live way he wants, his parents should too.

Drew tells Kim, it’s not remission, but it’s something. Kim says, any reprieve is welcome. Drew asks where she’s at, and she says, crashing down to earth. Every day they get a little closer. The news slows things down, but Terry is right. They have to make plans for the end. Drew tells her that Terry also said they don’t have to do it today. They got a break. Kim says, normally, she’d be figuring out some strategy to help Oscar, but she hasn’t. Drew promises they’ll figure out what do, and figure it out together.

Ava says not-Doc knew Franco was going off the rails, and might kill again? He says his assessment was incomplete, and he didn’t feel it necessary to alert the authorities. She asks what he’s going to tell the court, and he says, his professional opinion. Franco was beginning lose control, and was susceptible to sustained bouts of rage. She asks, why not make an anonymous tip? He says he was bound by duty. She asks if he knew before or after Kiki was killed. He says he would have done anything to save Kiki. Does’t she know that? She’s not sure she knows anything. She starts to leave, and he grabs her arm, saying, don’t you walk away from me.

Jordan reads from Franco’s file; feelings of aggression and grandiosity, a failure to accept responsibility for his actions, superficial charm. Franco says Doc wouldn’t say those things, and Scotty says he can’t offer his opinion without consent. Jordan says they have a warrant. Franco says Doc’s been weird lately, but would never write those things about him. Margaux says, the assessment is that of a textbook serial killer. Scotty says Doc is a pompous jerk. They have no evidence because Franco didn’t commit the murders. Jordan says, these were just recovered from the art therapy room, and tosses a plastic bag full of driver’s licenses on the table.

Ava tells not-Doc, let go, and he does. He tells her, forgive him. They never fought before. He doesn’t know what came over him. He can’t say he likes it. Right now, she can’t say she likes him much at all. She leaves, and he wipes everything off his desk, and looks mighty pissed off.

Drew goes to the art therapy room, and sees Griff. He asks if Griff has seen Franco. Griff says he’s at the police station. He’s been arrested for the attempted murder of Lulu.

Kim goes to Charlie’s, and Julian says she just missed the kids. She’s sure Oscar told Josslyn, and asks if Julian heard. He says he wouldn’t mind hearing it again from her, and they kiss. Alexis walks in, and walks back out.

Sonny reads, says, it’s a piece of garbage, and tosses the book onto the bar. The bartender notices the book, and Sonny asks if he knows it. The bartender says it changed his life. Sonny picks up the book again.

Chase says he has to admit, she bought into Franco’s act. She thought he was just trying to help with his insight, but he was taunting them. Elizabeth arrives as Franco is being taken away. He says they’ll sort it out. Scotty tells her there are additional charges for the murders of Mary Pat, Peyton, and Kiki. Elizabeth lets the sketch fall to the floor.

Ava literally runs into Griff. She says she can’t deal with him. Not after everything that’s happened. They’re saying Franco killed Kiki. He was supposed to love her. How could he possibly…? Griff holds her, saying he doesn’t know. Not-Doc sees them together.

Tomorrow, Scotty says they’re not railroading his client after all, not-Doc talks to Griff, and Spinelli tells Jason the story checks out.

🍴 I missed the first half of Top Chef. Dr. Phil once again tempted me with a dude who thought he was Batman. Really. It wasn’t nearly as interesting as it sounds, and he lost all his fights. He was a Marine or something, so I’d hoped he at least kicked some bad guy ass. His fiancé was getting a little skeptical about marrying him, which is understandable. The worst thing was, not only did he not have a full costume, his mask was lame. He also agreed to come on without the mask, but painted black around his eyes, like he was from a bad KISS cover band. Anyway, halfway through, I changed the channel.

When I tuned in, the chefs were already at the Rupp Arena, where the Kentucky Wildcats were hosting a concession stand cook-off. Hunter Lewis, Food and Wine editor-in-chief, was the guest judge. The contestants had split into two teams – blue and white. To keep in the spirit of the game, there was trash talk from the white team that the blue team used boxed waffle mix for their chicken and waffles. Sarah was called out by Adrienne, who had to admit out they did, and got heckled for it. The white team won with their juicy Lucies, a stuffed slider I’ve heard about on Vanderpump Rules. Sarah squeaked by because her chicken was spot on, but not so much Michelle’s ribs, and it was her turn to pack her knives and hit the road. She talked about how much confidence she had, and her hopes for Last Chance Kitchen. Maybe it’s me, but I sense a disconnect with her. Her backstory is sad – her father committed suicide when she was a teenager – and it possibly affects her personality. Whatever it is, I always want to tell her to speak up and look at who she’s talking to. My money is on Eric at this point. Next time a fried chicken challenge and a Muhammad Ali inspired dish.
