General Hospital

Julian suggests Alexis stop thinking and take the night off. He tells her maybe she should take a risk. Kristina comes by.

Hayden tells Curtis that she thought she’d feel an immediate, amazing connection to her baby, but instead she’s ambivalent. She doesn’t know if she wants to be a mother. He asks if she’s worried about being a less than perfect mom or being a mom. Finn overhears.

Obrecht tells Kiki that people have noticed how diligent she is on the job, even under the hardship of her mother’s tragedy. Kiki says it would be nice if she’d mention it to Monica. Obrecht says her word means nothing to Monica, who is known to be stingy with raises and promotions, but her leadership won’t last forever

Jason arrives back home.

Carly tells Sonny she doesn’t believe he can leave the business. He asks if she thinks he’s playing her, but she thinks he’s playing himself. Geez, Sonny isn’t getting any younger and they have a skabillion dollars, why doesn’t he just retire and they can live on the island? I’ll go.

Curtis says he knows all about Hayden’s less than perfect parents, and  wonders if she’s concerned about repeating their mistakes. She asks if he thinks she wants to pass that mess onto another generation. He suggests she become an overprotective helicopter mom, and asks if anything else is going on. She says it wasn’t planned. She doesn’t know if it’s something she can do on her own, and isn’t sure if Finn is in a place to help her, since he needs to help himself. Finn walks in and says he is.

Sam offers to wake the kids, but Jason says he’ll surprise them in the morning. She notices his wound, and he says it’s just a graze, no big deal. She wonders how delivering a message translates into being shot. Monica says it looks fine. He says Godzilla Garvey pulled a gun on Sonny and Carly, but Carly was the one who shot him.

Carly says that Sonny doesn’t get to retire, and he wants to know who says? She tells him that he’s been honest that no one has been able to leave his line of work. He says that was just the worse case scenario. She says a man doesn’t leave his kind of business; the business leaves him. He can live out his life and die of natural causes, or someone could kill him. Well, that sounds like how it goes for most of us.

Hayden asks how long Finn has been there, and Finn says he just got there, and tells them about talking to Griff. Hayden tells him about bringing in Curtis, and Finn fills Curtis in on Obrecht. Hayden says if they can’t prove it, Finn could lose his medical license. Curtis says not on his watch, and suggests they get moving on it.

Obrecht tells Kiki that Monica can’t be in charge forever. She says the day might come sooner than later if Kiki can help her. Kiki might be in a position to hear things, like any talk about labor actions. Once she’s chief again, she could pay Kiki back for keeping her informed. She tells Kiki to think about it.

Kristina asks if she’s interrupting, but Alexis says no. She says they’re not together, and Julian says they just happened to be in the same place at the same time. He has to go, and Kristina says he must be enjoying his freedom before the trial. He asks if Kristina has heard from Sonny, explaining what happened. Kristina asks why Julian would care about warning him.

Sonny tells Carly that he’s been in the business a long time; he knows how it works. She asks what route he’s taking this time. He tried disappearing once; what is he going to do now? She asks if he wants to go in the witness protection program, and he tells her not to get ridiculous. She wonders how he’d be able to keep his mouth shut if there was a successor, or what if they’re not as strong as he is? Would there be the possibility of an all-out war for his territory?

Sam doesn’t blame Carly for protecting her family; she blames Sonny. He knows Jason will protect him, never mind his own family. Jason says everything is fine. Sam goes to check on the kids. Jason apologizes to Monica, but she’s just glad he’s home safe and sound. She says family is never trouble. He asks if Sam seemed different before he left; she seemed off. He says he’s been worse and she handled it fine. Monica says maybe Sam is rearranging her priorities for the kids. I love how no one asked what happened that Carly ended up shooting Jason. Does she have the reputation as a bad shot?

Sam says kids still asleep. She wanted to thank Monica for talking her down when she wanted to go to Puerto Rico. She wants to kick sonny’s ass, but Jason says it wasn’t his fault. If he hadn’t gotten involved, they would be dead. Sam says that he can’t be responsible for their lives. He wonders why she’s annoyed with Sonny. He says she’s been quick to react lately, and volatile. She has right to be concerned, but her reactions seem disproportionate. He doesn’t understand where it’s coming from. Maybe they should see a doctor.

Hayden says they’re all in agreement. Monica walks in, and wonders what’s up. Hayden says Curtis was just filling them in on what he’s been doing. Monica says the mansion has seen more schemes than the CIA, so they might as well be truthful. Finn says owes her the truth, and Hayden adds even if it gets him fired. Finn tells her that one of the staff has been tampering with his drug tests. She asks if there’s proof, and Curtis says he’s going to get evidence. She isn’t keen on going behind on of her doctor’s backs, but Finn says it’s Obrecht. She says there are doctors and then there’s Obrecht. She asks what the plan is.

Carly asks Sonny who the successor would be; they can’t ask Jason. Sonny says years ago, he would have done a great job, and he could have let go thinking it was okay. Carly says he’s changed, and has a different life. Sonny says he’s different. Carly says that brings them back to square one. If it’s not Jason, it’s no one. It’s Sonny. The phone rings.

Alexis thanks Julian, saying it’s the first time she’s had an urge to drink in a while, but next time, she’ll call her sponsor; they’re over. Julian asks if just for tonight or for good.

On the phone, Kristina asks if Sonny is okay. He says Jason got nicked, but it’s nothing. She says it’s not nothing. She wishes he’d stop acting like it’s normal. She’d hoped things would change after Morgan. She calls herself an idiot for wanting something better, but Sonny says she’s not an idiot. She wants a normal life, and can’t take anymore empty promises. She tells him get home safe, and hangs up on him.

Monica says the plan hinges on fooling Obrecht, and she’s not easily fooled. Hayden says she’s hired Curtis before, and Monica can ask Jason how skilled he is. Monica says if Jason has used him, that’s good enough, and it’s believable that Obrecht would sabotage Finn. If they come up empty she’ll take the hit but she doesn’t think that will happen. Obrecht took her job once, and no doubt is planning it again. She says she wants to plan a field trip.

Kristina tells Alexis about calling Sonny. Julian says he’s glad Sonny is okay. Kristina thanks him.

Carly understands Kristina’s frustration. She wonders if she seems like a hypocrite, changing the rules this late in the game; she knew what she was getting into, but now she can’t follow through. Sonny feels the same way. He can’t stand to lose anyone else the way they lost Morgan. He’s going to figure out a way. It’s been all he knows, but he’s going to do everything to make it happen. He says he’s done with this life.

Sam asks Jason if by them seeing a doctor, he really means her. She says he wants her to have her head examined because her worrying makes her crazy. She asks if he thinks she’s hysterical or has anxiety and should be medicated. He thinks maybe she should call Alexis. Sam says because she doesn’t want him working for Sonny that means something is wrong with her. She’s yelling so loud, she wakes Scout. Jason says if something is wrong they need to figure out what it is.

Hayden is surprised that Monica wants to help. Finn says that’s the problem with hypothetical situations. You don’t know for sure unless you ask. Hayden says he’s not talking about Monica, and says that she didn’t doubt his ability to be a good father. She was talking about him having so much on his plate. Finn says that it’s not the perfect time to have a baby, but it’s the time they have, and need to work with it.

Monica wants to familiarize Curtis with lab, but Obrecht is still working. She tells him they’ll have to find him a disguise first.

Alexis tells Kristina that it was beyond generous to thank Julian. Kristina says he stuck up for once. Alexis says maybe people do change. She asks if Kristina wants to talk about it. Kristina asks what going on with her and Julian.

Carly tells Sonny that it’s ironic how he once told her there’s no getting out, and now she’s telling him. He says things are relatively stable at the moment, and it’s the perfect time to make a transition. He’ll get rid of the things he can, and groom someone to take care of what he can’t. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen. He calls Lucy. Says it will be worth her while. He says he’s selling his restaurant, and the listing is hers, price it to sell.

Sam apologizes to Jason about waking Scout. She says she feels like she blacked out, which is what he was saying. Jason says he’s just offering suggestions. She says she can’t apologize for feeling the way she does. He says even though he’s not going back to work for Sonny, she’s still afraid, and it’s not like her. He asks if she thinks she’s really okay. She says maybe not

Kristina asks Alexis what she walked in on. Alexis says, nothing. She had a banana split instead of drinking, and she didn’t want to talk to anyone. Julian showed up, then she did. Kristina says good thing, but what happens next time when she’s not there to save Alexis from herself?

Julian brings Obrecht take-out for the staff looking after Ava. He wants her to know how much Ava’s family appreciates it. Obrecht says they’re just doing their jobs. He says good thing Monica brought hospital back from the brink.

Monica brings Curtis out, wearing glasses, a hat and a uniform. He says looks like a nerd, and asks if there isn’t something in sexy in the IT department. Monica says the point is to get Obrecht’s guard down. Kiki approaches Monica for a private talk, but Monica says Curtis is the new IT guy, and it’s okay to talk in front of him. Kiki says that she might have misunderstood, and doesn’t want to get someone in trouble, but she thinks Obrecht just asked her to spy for her. Monica says that’s exactly what she’s going to do.

Finn tells Hayden that he’ll work every day to be the best father the baby could ask for. Hayden doesn’t doubt it, and says she’s the candidate to screw the baby up. He says they always blame their parents anyway. They can be scared together.

Jason tells Sam that maybe something is wrong. She brings up Alexis, and he says there’s definitely not drinking problem. Sam says ever since having Scout, she’s been antsy, like not entirely in control of herself. She hoped it would just blow over. He says doesn’t seem like it. She asks why it has to be an official thing and not just stress; first there was her mother’s drinking, then Julian, and Jason getting shot. Jason says that she handled things differently before, and thinks she should get checked out. She says what if they don’t find anything, and he says they’ll learn to handle things differently, suggesting getting a nanny, but she doesn’t want that. He says maybe part time, and she says they’ll see. He tells her the operative word is “we,” and he doesn’t want her to feel alone. She says she’ll see a doctor, even if she thinks it’s a waste of time.

Sonny says he made Lucy’s night. He takes out his gun to take it apart, saying it’s not needed any more. She appreciates the symbolic gesture, but thinks disarming himself will make him vulnerable. He says no more vulnerable than he’d be without her.

Tomorrow, Lulu tells Charlotte that her father is going to be away for a long time, Spencer wants to take action against Valentin, and Carly asks Josslyn what happened in the house.

The Haves and the Have Nots

Kathryn asks what Veronica is doing at the hospital, and Veronica says there are some problems with Melissa, Jeffrey’s girlfriend. Kathryn says her first problem is that Jeffrey is gay. Veronica says Melissa had some issues with her pregnancy, but Veronica is going to be a flawless grandmother. She asks what Kathryn is doing there, and Kathryn says to check on Hannah. Veronica says, oh, Hanna the maid, but Kathryn says Hanna is her friend. Veronica says too bad she has to pay her friends, and Katherine says Melissa and the baby couldn’t have come cheap. <snort>

Kathryn explains what happened to Quincy Jr., and Jeffrey wants to call Candace. Veronica says he has other things to attend to, but Kathryn tells Veronica she wouldn’t push him. She asks how Veronica’s wound is, and Veronica says fine, how about hers? When Jeffrey leaves a message for Candace, Veronica tells Jeffrey not to be so dramatic. He tells her to shut up. <double snort>

Kathryn sees Wyatt in a wheelchair, and asks what happened. Veronica says apparently drugs, but Kathryn tells her to back off. Kathryn is told he just needs medical attention, but Wyatt doesn’t want her bothering him. Anna says he’ll be fine, and Kathryn says that bitch gave him the money, and now he’s doing it again – drugs and whores. Veronica says she shot her, and Kathryn says she’ll shoot Veronica too. Jeffrey tells her to calm down, and introduces Anna. Anna tells her they do rehab at home, but Wyatt was having problems detoxing, so she and Dr. Jeffries thought he should be brought in. Veronica says they’ll fail. Kathryn tells them not to pay attention – she’s delusional. Anna says she should be proud. Kathryn says he’s been a lot of facilities, but Anna says he called them while he was trying to go cold turkey, and that’s a big step. She says he’ll be okay. Kathryn apologizes, and says she hopes they can work miracles. Jeffrey says this is good because he called on his own. Kathryn wants to see him when he’s done, but Anna doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Jeffrey says she’s a source of agitation, and detox is hard enough without added stress. He says Wyatt made the first step, and she’ll see him. He says he’ll keep her updated, and she thanks him. She’s glad he has his father’s heart.

Benny asks if he could get Hanna anything, but she just talks about how are they going to bury Quincy Jr. with no insurance? Benny says they’ll work it out, and Mitch says he’ll make sure they get the money. She tells him to call a place that buried Lizzie. Everyone is bummed. Kathryn arrives. Benny and Mitch make themselves scarce.

Hanna tells Kathryn it’s senseless and wrong; he was a baby, and had nothing to do with it. She tells Kathryn about how they busted in the room, looking for “that girl,” and just shot him, over money that doesn’t belong to either of them. Kathryn says she knows. Hanna says he’s dead. She’s never going to see him grow up and be happy. She calls out to God. She’s breathing, but he’s not. Kathryn tells her that she could say calm down and pull herself together, but nothing works. Unless you’ve lost a child, you don’t get it. She says Hanna will hear ridiculous things from people; when Amanda died she heard it all. Even the sympathy cards made her angry. She says they mean well, but nothing comforted her. She tells Hanna that she’s a good friend, and she needs to pray, adding that God sends you grief in waves, so it’s not so overwhelming. Hanna says she feels nothing, and it’s strange. Kathryn says she knows the feeling, and it passes. Sadness, rage, anger, depression; it’s a bitch, and then there’s just you and a new way of living, a new way of normal. Hanna says there’s nothing normal about this much struggle and this much pain. Her life has gone from nothing to nothing. Kathryn tells her not to say that, but she says it’s true. She has such strong faith, but this, God has some explaining to do. She’s done her best to live her life right. She gets upset and angry, but she tries her best to do her best, and what good is it? That baby is cold and what good is that? She pleads with God to talk to her. Wow. That was heart-wrenching.

Benny and Mitch return, and Benny tells Hanna that she’s okay. She says she knows that, but Quincy Jr. is dead. She starts to cry and scream he’s dead over and over. Benny holds her. Kathryn says to let her go. She hugs Hanna, and says she’ll take her home to her house.

Oscar is in Candace’s room when she comes out of the shower. He asks if she knows she’s wanted. He says she took his surveillance equipment out, and he’s paying for the room. He tells her that he knows she has nowhere to go. She tells him to leave, and asks what he wants. He says what she did last night. He’s being paid by powerful people who want Charles out of the race. He acts like a choirboy, but he’s not. Oscar says what she has is gold. Candace asks why she should help him. He says she could be First Lady of the US. She says her face is all over the TV, wanted for murder, but he says that could be spun. She asks how she could she be first lady, and he says in eight years, when his guy wins; it’s the long game. Candace says she’s not in it for the long game, and Oscar says that’s the problem. She’s only in it for quick money. He tells her that power begets money, not the other way around. She says she made it before him. He says she was hustling before him. This is the big leagues. She asks if he wants to be her pimp, and he says no, her partner. She tells him to get out. He says that Charles is there three more days – get him. He leaves, and Candace thinks about it.

Dr. Vincenti tells Veronica that Melissa and the baby are fine. He asks if Veronica would like to see her. She says she has things to do, but let her know if there are any changes about the baby. He says Melissa is depressed, and Veronica asks if it affects the baby. He’s concerned about Melissa’s suicide attempt, but Veronica says when she’s done talking to Melissa, she won’t try that again. The doctor says that seeing a friendly face might help, and Veronica says that’s why she doesn’t want to see her. Veronica tells Jeffrey let’s go, but he wants to check on Melissa. Veronica says he wants to see Wyatt, and Jeffrey says him too. She says not tonight, but Jeffrey walks away.

Meanwhile, at Malone’s Restaurant, Jim meets Rose. She’s not a happy woman, and he says he can see that. She says he knows what she’s like when she’s not happy, and it’s not good. She reminds him of the ‘08 race riots, and says she’s that angry. She asks who War is. Jim says some thug, and she asks how Jim knows him. He tells her that Candace had War abduct him and hold him for ransom. Rose asks if he’s and idiot, and Jim says yes. He tells her that War was a puppet for Candace, but found out she’d cheated him, and then she set him up. He and War struck up a deal in jail. Candace had something he needed – pictures of him in compromising positions – and War was supposed to get them back. Rose realizes that’s why he got War released, and her sources were right. She says that she’s always been there for Jim, and he says ditto. She says War shot at her grandson. Jim says War couldn’t have known who he was. Rose says he just lived up to his name –  she’s giving him a war. Jim tells her that these are different times, but she says that she has no choice. He says it will get heated around here, and she asks why he’d worry about heat.

Jim tells Rose that they’re in it deep together, and if she goes down, he has a lot to be concerned about. He asks her to let him talk to War, and she asks why Jim wants to protect him. Jim says he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about War, but wants to tell him what he did. If she takes this route, it could destroy him. Rose doesn’t give a damn. She says it’s already been decided, but he says she needs to understand things too. She says she should blame him – he got War out. Jim says he didn’t know that War knew Mitch. Rose says that he doesn’t. Jim asks if Mitch is okay. Rose says he wasn’t shot, but she needs to send a clear message that the Malones aren’t to be screwed with. He says the whole town knows already, but she says that she needs to rebroadcast it. She tells Jim to call War – now. Ha-ha I like Rose. She’s one tough broad.

Jim calls War. He says they need to talk. War asks about what, and Jim tells him that they have themselves a situation. War says he didn’t know the kid was there. Jim asks what kid, and War says Hanna’s grandson. Jim says they need to talk about him shooting at the wrong person, and he doesn’t mean the kid. The light bulb comes on, and War realizes he’s talking about Mitch. Jim tells War that he pissed off the wrong people and to let him help. He wants to make sure War is safe until he gets the package, and after that, needs to make sure he’s safe leaving Savannah. War says he doesn’t want to go anywhere, but Jim says he has to. War says it’s not happening, and Jim asks about the photos. War says he’s working on it, and hangs up. Rose wants the number, and tells her guy to trace it. Jim asks her not to do this. She says he’d better find War before she does. Jim asks her to consider the road she’s going down; this street thug isn’t worth her trouble. She tells Jim to get out. He asks her what her plans for DA Jennifer’s body are, but she doesn’t answer. He thanks her for the drink, and leaves.

Jim calls David. He says War took a shot at Rose’s grandson, and David says it’s powder keg. They can’t afford to have her upset. Jim asks if Oscar can be trusted. David thinks so, but Jim needs him to be sure. He says they need leverage, and David says maybe he can come up with something. Jim tells him that they have to find War before Rose does. War still has the package, and Oscar has to find him. David says that he’s on his way to the hospital, and Jim says he’ll meet him there.

Justin and Detective Logan approach Hanna. They need her to answer questions while it’s still fresh in her mind. She says that his name is Warrick Lewis, and explains what happened. Justin tells the detective that her daughter is Candace Young, and wonders why they’d be looking for her. Hanna says they’re both evil. Logan asks if Benny will talk to them. Benny shrugs and says sure. Justin asks if Mitch was there, and asks if his name is the same as in Fredrico Malone. Mitch says he’s a grandson. Logan asks why Benny was there, and he says he and his mother had rented a room. He asks about Mitch, and Mitch says that he and Benny are friends. Logan wonders if it was a drug thing, and Mitch says check their records. Logan asks if Benny knows where Candace is, and Benny says that she’s not returning his calls, but he won’t give up the phone number. Logan suggests he help them, and Benny says why, since they’ve been no help to him. Logan tells him they know two people were involved in Quincy’s murder, and he’s under arrest.

Next time – two weeks from now, Justin visits Wyatt, Melissa tells Jeffrey to get lost, David tells Veronica he’s glad he got rid of her, and Oscar tells Candace not to mess with those people.

Below Deck Mediterranean

When last we left, Hannah asked Jason if he was off to bed, and they kissed. We didn’t see that part; we just heard smacky noises.

Lauren asks if Max has a special outfit for his girl, and Bobby says his birthday suit. Ha-ha! Bugs suggests to the captain that Hannah was partying with the guests, since she’s still sleeping. She thinks Hannah is taking advantage of the fact that none of them know when she goes to bed. Captain Sandy says Wes doesn’t know how to delegate, which makes it difficult for the crew to learn. I like how she gets them involved with the workings of the boat.

Another beautiful morning in Croatia. The water is so blue; it’s incredible. The guests gather for breakfast. Jason asks if Hannah is okay, and Bugs says she’ll check. In her interview, Hannah feels guilty. Bugs tells her that Jason asked her to check if Hannah had a pulse. Hannah says she’s keeping her mouth shut, which is what she should have done the night before.

Captain Sandy says she had captains who didn’t allow her on the bridge, and she wants to be able to further the careers of her crew. Wes docks the boat for the first time. Success! The guests don’t want to go home, and Jason asks for Hannah’s email addy. She says they’ll be around Croatia for a month, and he says they’ll be there until Friday. As much as she likes having him there, it’s a bit of a distraction.

Jason tells the captain that it’s a lifelong memory, and they probably gained fifteen pounds. He has something he’d like to leave behind in appreciation. How did this guy get to be good looking and nice? The crew cleans up, and the captain calls tip time.

She says she understands that all of them can get pulled in at one time to party with the guests, but they didn’t allow it happen. In her interview, Hannah says sometimes it’s not what you do, but what you get away with. Captain Sandy says the main thing is the guests were happy, and details some of the things they were happy with. That’s a nice touch. I think the captain would make a great teacher. The tip is $15K or $1400 each. She’s also arranged for the crew to go to the Fortress of Klis for the day.

Max’s girlfriend, Emily, arrives. She’s a hugger, and hugs all the crew. Unfortunately, Max is in the bathroom when she gets there, which she says is reflective of their relationship. Although I’m not quite sure what she means by that. She asks how they manage in such small quarters. Laruen jokes about it being glamorous. They haven’t seen each other in six weeks, and chatter away.

The medieval Fortress of Klis is gorgeous and has amazing views. Apparently, it’s quite historic as well. The crew does some archery, and watches a swordfight. Adam tells Malia that he’s confused and crazy, and she’s not helping. She’s annoyed that he’s angry because she’s not giving him enough attention. Way to ruin the day, baby man.

Everyone gets ready to go out for the evening, and they head to a pub. Wes asks Malia what’s up with her and Adam? She says he asked her on a date. Wes asks if she wants him to step away, or does she want to pursue something? She says she doesn’t know what’s happening in the Adam situation. They hug. She says they’ll see what happens. They kiss. Well, that happened. Wes thinks it feels right and natural. In his interview, he says he made his stand and he’ll see how it goes. Funny. Last week he made the stand that he wanted nothing more to do with her.

Max makes out with Emily at the bar. Adam asks Malia if the walk was planned. She says that Wes has feelings for her (a standard reality show term), but she told him that she’s going on a date with Adam, and they’re seeing how it goes. A couple of the crew disappear. Malia calls Adam an a-hole, and he says to put herself in his shoes. He says something about all they’ve been through, and refers to a penthouse and Santorini. He says that he has big plans for her, and thought it was going to be the Malia and Adam show. In his interview, the producers ask if he and Malia hooked up before the show, and he says yes. Alrighty then.

Malia explains that they met at their yacht certification courses, but thought it was best not to let the crew know. We flash back to a couple of their interactions. Adam says that it could have been awkward for the rest of the crew, and. Malia says that Adam doesn’t like that she fell for Wes. Well, of course not. Even if he wasn’t an immature idiot, that would be normal. He says they went from a potential great thing to all lies. He tells her not to break his heart.

Bobby asks Wes about the walk. Bobby thinks he should pull back, and that he can do better. Adam tells Wes he feels horrible seeing him walk off with the girl of his dreams. Bugs waves a sparkler around, and falls down in the middle of the street. At the boat, Hannah texts Jason. The guest cabin is made up for Max and Emily.

Malia says she thinks she should step away from both of them, since they’re all on the same boat. She doesn’t like how Adam is reacting. They weren’t dating, so it’s not like she cheated. She thinks he’s immature, and we agree on that one. Adam says that he wishes Malia the best. He wanted her, and she shut him down. She says that’s not true, but he cuts her off, and she’s like, fine then. He says the smartest and easiest thing is to walk away.

Wes knocks at Malia’s cabin. He says he’s tired of all this. She says she’s not going on the date. Adam tells him the same thing later. They decided it’s best to keep it professional.

Malia asks if Adam is all right, and if they’re all right. He says he doesn’t love it, but who cares? Since we’re in the seventh grade.

Captain Sandy goes over the new guest preference sheets. The primary is Lauren, founder of a tequila company. She’s bringing a friend named Bobby, so the name thing could be confusing. They want a tequila pairing dinner the last night, and also to use the water toys and slide. I know a lot of people love tequila, but I don’t, and just the thought of a pairing dinner turns my stomach. The boat gets readied. The master iPad buzzes, and Bugs sees it. She gets to looking at some texts, and shows Bobby. He says Hannah was texting with Jason and didn’t log off. One of her texts mentions the tip, and in her interview, Bugs says it’s the worst thing ever, and the rule is to never get involved with guests during charter. Well, it’s not like he’s still on the boat. Bobby wants to read everything.

Hannah tells Lauren about Jason, and Lauren says she’d go for it; you can’t help who you have a connection with, even if it turns out to be friendship. Hannah thinks he won’t be in the friend zone. Bobby wants the crew to know that Hannah has been talking sh*t about them.

Bobby and Bugs go out with Max and Emily. Adam thinks he and Wes aren’t friends anymore, and it proves that two men can’t go after the same woman. Bobby shows Max the iPad. Bugs says Hannah made them look bad. Bobby says he doesn’t care what she did with the guest, but she shouldn’t be talking about the crew. When they leave the restaurant, they see Jason and his friends, but wisely don’t bother them. Bugs talks to Wes about the iPad. He thinks it’s going to cause some sh*t.

The crew gets ready for a barbecue on the dock. Captain Sandy wants pictures, and ironically asks if Bugs has the iPad to take them. Bugs tells Bobby it’s not going to turn out well, and thinks they should talk to Hannah before it blows up into something bigger than it needs to be. They bring along Max and go to Hannah. Bugs tells her about all of her texts with Jason being on the tablet. Hannah thinks it’s an invasion of privacy, and says she hasn’t done anything wrong. I kind of agree with that, but it’s like Harriet the Spy when she loses her journal with all the entries about her friends. No surprise though, they were twelve.

Bugs talks to Malia, who says if Hannah found something like that, she’d lose her sh*t. Lauren joins them, and they tell her that Jason mirrored his phone to the iPad, and Hannah had been texting him.  Lauren says it sucks that her personal business is out there. In her interview, Lauren says she’d die if that happened to her.

The next morning, Emily has to go. Max says it’s an incentive to work hard and get back home to her.

Hannah says it’s a violation and shows no respect for her. She doesn’t know how to work with Bugs now, let alone trust her. She meets with Captain Sandy. She says she and Jason had an instant connection, and he pulled her aside and kissed her. She kissed back for two seconds, but then regained her professionalism. The captain tells her that it’s not cool to respond if a guest comes on to you. Professionalism must be maintained at all times. She switches Hannah to the day shift to remove temptation. Like all of the guests are Jasons.

Hannah tells Bugs that she talked to Captain Sandy, and they’re going to be swapping shifts. She says she’d expected Bugs to be both her second and her friend, instead of reading her personal messages to Bobby. in her interview, Bugs says that the iPad is the boat’s property, and it’s a fireable offense to use it for your personal amusement. Yeah, yeah. Bugs says it’s not like she went to the captain; she spoke to Hannah. Hannah says she did, but she brought along Bobby and Max. Bugs makes up a stupid excuse, and they decide since there’s tension, Bugs and Lauren are going to switch bunks. Hannah calls Lauren to come meet with her.

She tells Lauren about swapping shifts with Bugs, and about switching rooms. Lauren says she has Hannah’s back. Hannah says the guest kissed her, but she told him she couldn’t see him until after charter. Lauren says the crew is talking. Hannah says she guesses you should definitely never text a guest, but making out with two crew members in one night is okay. Oh, snap!

In the mess, Bugs announces that she’s rooming with Malia, who says everyone on the boat wants to sleep with her. Ha-ha!

The new guests arrive. They’re very enthusiastic. Hannah does the usual tour. The captain has Bobby take command of the launch. He’s crazy nervous, and hopes they don’t hit the dock. Success!

Wondrous appetizers come out. Adam comes up and asks the guests about what they might like that wasn’t on their preference sheets. A couple of the guys joke about wanting Cocoa Puffs, but, surprise! they have them. Hannah thinks it’s unprofessional for Adam to come out in his apron and backward baseball cap. She’s never seen a chef approach guests wearing what he cooks in. Adam asks Malia for his lucky hat back. He says it smells like her (ew!), and she tells him not to excite himself.

Hannah is annoyed about the crew looking at her texts. If they want to get at her, she’s giving it back. She’s going to go out of her way to make it difficult.

Some of the guests use the jet skis. Hannah asks Adam for a favor, but he says no. She asks about taking his cap and apron off in front of guests, and he says no. He says it’s his galley, but she says not when he comes up to the deck. She suggests a more professional approach. He tells her that she prances around like she’s perfect, and she’s not. She says the interior got kudos last charter, but not so much the food. Adam says that was intentional, and she’s like, okay, an intentional screw up is so much better. He tells her she has an attitude, and she says that she’s not there to be loved. He gets sarcastic with her, and she says she’s not there to keep crew happy, but to keep the guests happy. He says she made that clear. That probably was a poor choice of words. Unless it was intentional.

Next time, Malia talks to Wes, Captain Sandy wants Wes to choose a lead deckhand, the captain thinks she’s going to be under a microscope with the next guest, and the guests seems like an idiot when she asks if the food “came out of a box or was something whipped up.”

🔊 Okay, here’s my opinion whether you want it or not. I get the rule about not fraternizing with the charter guests. Otherwise, it would be a free-for-all. But sh*t happens, and it’s not like Hannah went crazy in kissing Jason for half a second, and then deciding to get to know him better afterward. Maybe she shouldn’t have been discussing the crew, but the charter was over, and people talk about their jobs. When Bugs saw the texts, she should have immediately let Hannah know, but instead decided to pass around the information, both disrespecting Hannah’s position, and I’m sure breaking some kind of girl code. What I think is that Bugs is still pissed that Hannah wasn’t happy about what Adam said, and also might have been a little jealous. The Adam thing is also a time that she should have had Hannah’s back. Bugs is not a girl’s girl.

General Hospital

Nelle and Michael almost get busy. He says they should stop, but she says no.

Hayden has morning sickness at night. She throws a giraffe toy across the room, and almost hits Curtis.

Griff asks Finn if everything is okay with Hayden and the baby. Finn says everything checked out with the OB/GYN, and in case Griff was wondering, she’s keeping the baby. Griff asks if he’s ready to be a father. Finn says no.

Obrecht tells Ava that her injuries put a lot of stress on her heart. She notices the DNR, but says that Ava seems to be healing. She asks if Ava isn’t cheered by that news.

Julian approaches Alexis at Kelly’s where she’s eating a gigantic ice cream concoction. He asks if she never eats at home, and she asks him the same question. She says she ran out of ice cream. He asks if it’s helping.

Josslyn tells Oscar about the horse her parents leased for the summer. He didn’t know she rode, and says it fits her; she seems like someone who cares about real things, instead of taking selfies and accumulating likes. She asks if he cares about real things. I’m not usually into the summer kid storylines, but these two are cute.

Carly and Sonny are also getting busy, but she pushes him away. He asks if he did something wrong and why she stopped. She says he’s doing it again. She was almost out of his life, but then was so afraid she was going to lose him, she could barely breathe.

Julian asks what brought on Alexis’s drinking in the first place. She says it doesn’t have to be any one thing specifically. She wanted to feel something other than nostalgia and regret, and it’s not all about him. He talks about loneliness and loss, and says he’s right there with her.

Griff tells Finn that he was terrified when he thought Charlotte was his daughter. He’s glad to see Finn is taking charge of his life, like he did with getting sober. Finn says he needs time to breathe, and find a way through it.

Curtis asks if Hayden is okay, and she says that she’s fine. He asks why she called him, and she tells him that she has a job offer. She explains about Finn’s drug tests coming back positive even though he’s not using anymore. Curtis says the road to recovery isn’t a straight line, and Hayden asks why he doubts Finn. Curtis says he knows Finn loves her, but addicts lie. She says they know who’s tampering with the tests, but need him to help prove it.

Ava tells Obrecht that she’s not exactly optimistic these days, and Obrecht asks if she’d like to talk to someone. Kiki comes in, and Obrecht says the best medicine is here. She’d give anything to be with her daughter. She leaves, and Kiki says she thought Ava would feel better after hearing that she’s going to recover. Ava tells her about seeing what she looks like, and that it’s the price she has to pay for what she did to Morgan and Kiki. We haven’t seen under the bandages, but she actually looks pretty good for someone that injured. And then we do have her perfect manicure. Just sayin’. I also know they would have taken her nail polish off before doing any procedures involving anesthesia, since I worked at a women’s clinic for a couple of years. Sorry. Nit-picky, I know. After 50 years, I feel entitled.

Josslyn tells Oscar that when she rides, she doesn’t think of anything else. He says he feels that way when he plays music – his favorite thing is to let go and just feel it. She says it feels good not having to think about problems. She moves in for a kiss, then says OMG. Her grandmother is here; she heard the car.

Sonny tells Carly that the assault came out of nowhere. She says it’s his entire life. If Jason hadn’t shown up, they’d both be dead. She can’t stand remembering when he was shot, and making him promises that she thought she could keep, just so he’d live. He asks if they can’t think about how they survived and pulled each other through.

Michael and Nelle get busier.

Carly tells Sonny that they’re in the same place they always end up, but this time it was faster. She says their relationship is love versus violence, bliss versus grief, and hope versus loss. They barely survived, and she’s so angry she could scream. He says he doesn’t blame her; he’s angry with himself. She hates caring about him, and all of this. He asks if she hates him.

Bobbie walks into the house. Oscar introduces himself. She says she sent the half-naked kids in the hot tub packing, and they’re lucky they have their clothes on. Oscar gets out while he can. Josslyn says she can explain, and Bobbie says she’ll be doing the explaining.

Kiki tells Ava that surgery will do a lot. Ava says Kiki is too kind and good to write her off, but it would be easier if she hated her. Kiki says easier for who, her or Ava?

Finn tells Griff that circumstances not under his control lost his job for him. He explains how he and Hayden thought Brad was trying to sabotage him out of greed, when it was really someone who was envious. He says that it’s been her goal to destroy his career since he got there. Griff is like, she? And Finn tells him it’s Obrecht. She stares at them from across the room.

Hayden tells Curtis about her urine being tested. She says it was positive for opiates, and… She trails off.

Julian reminds Alexis that they got through the first night of her sobriety together. She says that night is long past, but he says here they are, together again.  He tells her that maybe he was meant to run into her.

Ava tells Kiki that it would be easier for both of them if she’d turn her back. Kiki says part of her thinks her life would be better, and Ava tells her to do it. Kiki asks if Ava really wants her to go and not come back. Scotty comes in, and asks if he’s interrupting. Ava says that Kiki was just leaving.

Hayden explains to Curtis that Finn is suspended, and can’t be reinstated until they prove otherwise. Curtis says he has ideas, but they have to talk money. She asks if they aren’t friends, and he says if they are, she can start by telling him about the baby.

Finn tells Griff that someone has been doctoring his drug tests to make it look like he’s under the influence.

Alexis talks about Gordo Garvey, saying she tried to call Sonny, but went right to voicemail. Julian tells her that he passed along the information to Jason, and would have heard if everything wasn’t okay. Alexis says he went the distance today. Julian says he might be going to prison, so he made a last effort to make a difference. She asks if he’s in danger now.

Bobbie tells Josslyn that she got a call about kids in the hot tub, and thought it was impossible, since Josslyn was spending the night at Trina’s. Josslyn says she wasn’t planning on drinking, but Trina brought friends with wine coolers, and she didn’t know what to do. She says she wants to have fun and hang out, and not think about her parents or Sonny or any of it. Bobbie asks if she was successful, and she tells Bobbie that she had the best time.

Sonny tells Carly that he felt the same, thinking she could die. If she had, he couldn’t live without her. Carly says she can’t live without him. They go back to getting busy.

Julian tells Alexis that he wouldn’t be there if he thought he was in danger; he wouldn’t expose her to that, but it means a lot that she asked. She asks if he saw Sam, and how is she? He says hostile as usual, but she seemed fine. Alexis says that Sam has been agitated lately, but when she asks about it, Sam gets even more agitated. Julian says she’s probably not happy that Alexis came to his defense about seeing Leo. He asks Alexis to keep him posted.

Obrecht questions Finn about his belief that someone is sabotaging his career, and he says he knows it. Griff says he believes it too, and she tells him that compassion is clouding his judgement. She says they rely on science, not sentiment, and they’ve been more than generous with Finn. The hospital has lost an excellent doctor, but there’s nothing they can do. As soon as she’s gone, Griff tells Finn that he’s right; now how do they prove it?

Curtis tells Hayden that he’s trained to observe, and she’s about to be sick. She mumbles something about questionable chicken salad, but he’s not having it. He says she almost told him something else about the test, and she hasn’t left the giraffe toy alone since he got there; she’s pregnant. She admits that she is, and he congratulates her. He asks if Finn is cool, and she says he’s great. He asks if she’s cool.

Josslyn tells Bobbie that she was in there the whole time talking to Oscar, and that’s all they did. Bobbie says she was drinking. Josslyn says it was just one, but Bobbie says besides her being underage, it was wrong because she lied. Josslyn tries getting around Bobbie by asking if she didn’t do anything wrong when she was young, but Bobbie isn’t going there. She says she can’t allow her to have boys in the house without an adult present or any drinking at all. Josslyn says she’s sorry, and it won’t happen again. She asks if Bobbie is going to tell Carly, and Bobbie says yes, she is.

Kiki tells Scotty that she guesses she’s leaving. Ava says she loves her; she’s just not very good at it. After Kiki leaves, Scotty says it sounded serious. Ava tells him not to worry, but he says he does. He brought her balloons and candy, but they wouldn’t let him bring it in because it’s not sterile. He apologizes for taking so long to visit, and she says he’s just afraid she’ll tell the cops what he did to help her with Morgan’s pills.

Michael and Nelle hit the sheets, and there’s a song part.

Hayden tells Curtis that other than Elizabeth and a couple of others, nobody knows she’s pregnant. Curtis is surprised that she told her sister, but Hayden says that she practically threw up in front of her and Jake. She doesn’t want everything revolving around the baby when Finn needs help. Curtis says who else can she talk to but him?

Finn tells Obrecht not to throw the party just yet, but he might be back. There is something he can do about the test.

Scotty tells Ava that he’s there because he cares. What happened made him sick. He wonders how things would have gone if they’d gotten her out of town. She tells him not to bother with the coulda, shoulda, woulda. He tells her that Lucy is the one who spilled the beans. He managed to divert Dante, but now he’s on a fishing expedition for information. He asks if Dante was there, and Ava tells him no, but Sonny was. She adds that she didn’t say anything about Scotty being an accomplice, and he asks if she will if Dante shows up.

Griff sees Kiki in the hallway, and asks what’s going on. She says her mom wants her to hate her. He asks if part of her still loves Ava, and Kiki says yes.

Sonny and Carly bask in the afterglow. She says for them, love has never been a problem; it’s everything else. He says he’s done. He’s getting out of the business.

Bobbie tells Josslyn that she’d be irresponsible not to tell Carly, and it would look like she was condoning what Josslyn did. Josslyn says that she’s going through a lot, including her mother going to a disgusting love shack with Sonny. Bobbie says turning it around will get her nowhere. Josslyn begs her not to let her mother take her life away, and why burden her with more problems? Bobbie says not to try to manipulate her. Josslyn says sorry, but then do it for her. One mistake doesn’t make her a screw-up, and they love each other. Bobbie says just clean the place up.

Alexis wants to go home. Julian asks if she wants a ride, but she tells him that too much sugar doesn’t mean she can’t operate heavy machinery. He tries to entice her with a playlist of music they used to listen to, and asks her to let him take her home.

Ava tells Scotty that she’d never rat on him. Scotty thanks her, and says, if only. She tells him it doesn’t do any good, and she’s tired of thinking about it. She’s just tired. He says he’ll be back. He cares about her.

Griff tells Kiki that Ava really needs her. Kiki has been traumatized too, and they have resources to help her with choices. He says for forgiveness to work, you have to find your own way to it. She has to make whatever decision gives her peace of mind. She looks in the window of Ava’s room.

Curtis tells Hayden that it’s okay to be scared. Becoming parent is a huge change, and he’d be petrified. She says that she thought she’d have an amazing connection with her baby immediately, and feel hope and joy, but instead she’s ambivalent. She doesn’t know if she wants to be a mother. Finn overhears.

Julian suggests driving on the lake and listening to tunes. Alexis says he needs to hear her – she’s not letting him in again.

Michael and Nelle bask in the afterglow. And get busy again. Geez.

Josslyn gets everything cleaned up, but doesn’t see that there’s still a bottle under the table. She tells Bobbie that it’s like it never happened. Carly will never know – unless Bobbie tells her.

Sonny tells Carly that he’ll quit that part of his operation and do everything he can to make a good life for her and the family. She says he might believe he can, but she doesn’t.

Tomorrow, Obrecht asks Kiki for help, Julian wants Sam to see a doctor, and Carly broaches the possibility of all-out war.

Southern Charm

Ha-ha! I almost typed Southern Comfort, but I was thinking of the movie, not the drink.

I want to know how Kathryn got her hair into that topknot. Did she do that by herself?

When we last left, Landon surprisingly defended Kathryn to Thomas. He’s stunned, which probably doesn’t take much when you only have a few brain cells. Cameran tells us the tides have changed.

The gang is still in Key West. Everyone is doing something different – jet skiing, a massage, Kathryn is reading, some are by the pool. Naomie told Craig that if he was disrespectful, it was over, and she says that’s pretty much what happened. She and Jennifer book. Craig says he doesn’t know who she is anymore.

Austen and Chelsea do some parasailing. He thinks Chelsea feels like she caused a rift with him and Shep, but everything is cool now. Kathryn joins Danni and Elizabeth (half bleh) by the pool. She says things seem unresolved because Landon hasn’t taken ownership of what she said about Kathryn. She says things don’t just switch around like that. Elizabeth tells her what Landon had said earlier, but Danni thinks her approaching Kathryn was genuine, and tells Kathryn how Landon stood up for her and called Thomas a d*ck. Landon joins Cameron and looks like she has a hellacious hangover. Suddenly, it’s like she gets Kathryn, saying Thomas is being a bully who pushes her, and she doesn’t want a man like that. She still doesn’t want to be around Kathryn either though, since she’s not sure what she’ll get.

Elizabeth tells Kathryn that you should give second chances, but she sees red flags. Kathryn thinks Landon isn’t that deep.

Cameran gets a party bus to go to dinner. Thomas recognizes Kathryn’s fabulous dress from when they went out on New Year’s Eve. In her interview, Kathryn says now that she sees what Thomas is like when he holds all the cards, she wants to encourage him to remain on good terms. They arrive at a gorgeous restaurant – lots of candles and twinkling lights. Outside, Kathryn tells Thomas she understands the consequences of her actions, but getting iced out from the person who has her kids isn’t good for her or them. She says they’re at the point where they don’t need mediation, and should handle it themselves. She calls the second baby Julien and I get confused. I thought his name was Saint. Has she been away from them so long, she forgot his name? Thomas tells her he’d like that, since he’s paying ten grand a month for lawyers, and I choke. In his interview, Thomas says if her actions match her words, they can successfully parent.

Suddenly, Danni doesn’t feel well, and keels over. Everyone just stands around looking stupid, but at least Thomas calls for an ambulance, and she’s taken to the hospital. One of the girls calls her fiancé, Todd.

Commercial break. Ha-ha! I love Justin Guarini as Lil’ Sweet. I also love Dr. Pepper, but it’s more than a lil’ sweet. I drank a whole two-liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper once, and in the morning thought I suddenly needed glasses.

JD (bleh) gets a call from Elizabeth. He, Shep, and Landon decided to ride mopeds to the restaurant, and took a wrong turn, so they’re late. He tells the others about Danni going to the hospital. Cameran gets a text from Danni saying she was dehydrated. Everyone finally gathers for dinner. Craig says it’s good they got Danni help when they did. Thomas makes a snarky remark about sitting far away from Landon. Landon suggests they be nice to each other, and no jabs. In her interview, she’s glad that she got the full Thomas, since it gives her an out. She marginally feels sorry for Kathryn, who will have to deal with him for life. Drinks are ordered. Craig asks if Whitney had to give up cheese or oral sex, which would it be. Whitney says cheese, but Craig says he really loves cheese.

Craig brings out a onesie with Arriving Soon embroidered on it that he whipped up for Cameran. He wanted to give the baby its first outfit. Does he cook too? Man, too bad I’m old enough to be his mother. Maybe when Patricia’s butler, or whatever he is, retires, Craig could take his place.

Danni gets back, and in the morning, Shep tells her how worried they were. We see a clip of the girls picking her up from the ER in the party bus, and she says that she’s fine. Cameran tells Shep that he’s wasted, and every day is Groundhog Day in his life. She thinks maybe he should just have water if he wants to get on the plane to go back home.

Cameran wants to talk to Craig. She says he has to become aware of how he speaks to Naomie, especially in public. He says therapy blew up in their faces, and she says maybe they have the wrong therapist. In his interview, he says she left without saying good-by, but he had a better time once she was gone. Cameran says from an outsider’s perspective, he’s the one who looks like the a-hole, but he says in private, it’s a different story and Naomie cuts deep. We flash back to some of Naomie’s finest moments. Cameran says they need mutual respect. Shep comes bearing biscuits and gravy for Cameran. And a beer for himself. He is getting wasted, and if he doesn’t get un-wasted, they’re not going to let him on the plane. He says what a great time it was, and Cameran tells him they need to be in the lobby in ten minutes. He spends a few of them talking to the fern.

Commercial break. The Beguiled looks excellent. I saw the original, but barely remember it.

Everyone manages to get back in one piece. Patricia is wearing giant curlers, like the orange juice cans women used to use, and Whitney tells her she looks like Joan Crawford. She’s not so sure that’s who she wants to look like,

Thomas visits JD (bleh), who tells him that Shep and Craig missed the connecting fight. Thomas says he and Kathryn seemed to get along, but Landon surprised him, coming to Kathryn’s defense about things she knows nothing about. He thinks she should both sympathize and empathize with his situation since she’s dealt with it too. JD (bleh) says the one person who should always have his back is his lady. I can’t help it. The Pillsbury Dough Boy has more personality than JD.

Landon visits her sister, Pebbles Bam. She shows Bam a video from the trip, and says that she and Kathryn even got along, but now Thomas is mad at her for sticking up for Kathryn. She got a text from him, quoting Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and she sent a quote back. Because they can’t think of their own words.

Thomas tells JD (😐) he dodged a bullet, and quotes his quote – my good opinion, once lost, is lost forever. In his interview, he says he feels enlightened rather than betrayed. Well, maybe a little betrayed. He wants a woman who feels privileged and honored to be with him (gag), but she’s lost her opportunity. JD (🎧) says he has a black-tie event coming up, and asks if he should uninvite her. Thomas says he can be cordial, like she’s a waitress. Even though I’m not crazy about her, I’d say Landon is the one who dodged a bullet.

Landon tells Bam that Thomas was speaking to Kathryn the way her ex spoke to her. She starts to tear up. She’s tired of men thinking they can control women with money and power, and it struck a nerve with her. Kathryn is trying hard, and Thomas should shut up. She says it was like a warning. He could turn on her too.

Kathryn meets Naomie for dinner. Naomie asks how the rest of the trip was. Kathryn says Craig seemed closed off, and Naomie says not a lot of people know him like Kathryn does. She says they haven’t been getting along, and Kathryn wonders what’s at the bottom of it. Naomie says she just wanted to blame him, and she’s obsessed with telling him not to think so highly of himself. Kathryn says he feels he’s being judged, and overcompensates. Naomie thinks her anger is coming from him lying about taking the bar for a year. She says she hasn’t been very good to him, and feels badly because no one sees her being rude to him. They continue the argument outside, and Naomie suddenly acts nice. In her interview, Kathryn can’t imagine Naomie being mean, saying that she’s not even a bitch to bitches. Kathryn tells Naomie that maybe Craig needs affirmations, and gives her some tips. In her interview, Kathryn says that going through such a complicated relationship has given her insight into people. She thinks if they work at it, they’ll be fine.

Cameran’s mom, Bonnie, comes to visit. She says her birthday was good crazy, and shows Bonnie some stuff she bought from Home Goods. She wants to turn the guest bedroom into a Zen room (shades of Rocky Horror), and says one day it could be a baby nursery. She tells her mother that she’s stopped taking birth control, and shows Bonnie the onesie that Craig made. Bonnie says she never wanted children, but she had them and loved it. She says maybe Cameran is scared of babies, like she was. Cameran says she thinks it’s the initial shock of having your life changed, and her mother says it’s instinctive and profound. She tears up, saying it’s a wonderful experience.

Craig is studying, and Naomie comes in from her last exam. They haven’t talked about the trip, and she’s acting like it never happened. He feels like he was finally himself when Naomie left, and doesn’t want to hide from it anymore. She says she realizes that she has a huge part in the arguments, and the things she says behind closed doors are wrong. She apologizes. He appreciates it, and says it’s nice to hear. She says she’s not saying he’s not an a-hole. Nice follow-up. He says it’s hard for him, because he’s extremely angry. He could never do what she did to someone he loves. He doesn’t think she feels the way she thinks she does about him, and they’re not healthy together. They’re not happy anymore, and he needs a positive influence. She says she’s had similar doubts and thoughts, but she doesn’t want to be with anyone else. He says she seems disgusted with him, and she says she has been judging him and feels badly about it. He says she needs to think about if she wants to put in the effort. She acknowledges what she’s done, and says all she can do is be aware of herself. In her interview she says she doesn’t want to lose Craig. She says they have a lot to process and think about. He says he’ll always love her, and they hug. I have the feeling he just wants out at this point.

Kathryn visits Thomas, and he gives her some photos of the kids with Santa. The kids are in the kitchen having dinner, but since it’s not her day, they can’t go back there. Okay, Thomas is even creepier than I thought. Even if it’s court mandated, he could give her a break. In her interview, Kathryn says she wants to show him she meant what she said about working together. She tells him that she thinks he’ll be pleasantly surprised. He tells her that her energy is powerful, and if she directs it positively, she can accomplish anything. She says during the times they were together, she felt diminished, but now feels like they’re equals. When he goes on about her body in his interview, I wonder if he thinks so. He says he’s seeing a different Kathryn. If she can take pride in who she is, they can make things work. He tells her that he’ll see her tomorrow,and quotes Gone with the Wind, saying tomorrow is another day. She says she totally gets Scarlett. They hug, and he thanks her for coming by. He says he thinks about her a lot, and she says she thinks about him too, and kind of wants to kiss him. Is baby number three far behind?

Sermet’s farewell party is about to happen, and everyone gets ready. Chelsea tells Austen he looks like Richard Gere. No. Just no. Cameran flashes back to some party where she got so drunk she fell on the floor. Thomas thinks Austen looks like James Bond. That would be a no too. Patricia thought it made sense to put Landon and Thomas together, but it didn’t work – next. We find out that Shep wasn’t allowed on the plane. What did I say? Naomie tells Cameran that Kathryn and Thomas kissed because we’re in high school. Then the information goes around the room for the same reason. Landon isn’t surprised.

Kathryn comes in, and Thomas tells her she looks beautiful. Cameran says that she told everyone they were making out. In her interview, Kathryn says love is crazy, and so are they.

Shep brings ex Bailey to the event. We flash back to her putting him in the friend zone. Dinner is served. Shep thanks Craig for being a good friend at the airport. In his interview, Craig says that he didn’t want anything bad to happen. Craig tells Shep about a fight he nearly had that he doesn’t remember, and Shep talks about getting a chicken wing stuck in his throat. Good times.

JD (🐰)gets up and goes blah-blah-blah. Austen mingles. Kathryn asks Naomie how it’s going, and Naomie says better, and thanks her. Bailey asks Austen what the deal with Chelsea is. She’s hugging him, and Chelsea says she’ll let it continue for a minute, and then say her piece. Seriously.

Craig talks about Kathryn and Thomas making up. Austen sits by Chelsea. She tells him that when he has another woman on his lap, and he’s running his hand up her butt and back, it makes the girl he came with look like an idiot. Austen says he didn’t realize. It’s the first he’s hearing that she even cares. Well, regardless, if you came with someone else, you don’t do that. He asks her what she wants, exclusivity, or to stop it altogether because she’s scared to get hurt. It’s come to a crossroads. She asks him what he wants, and he says he’s crazy about her. She says she thinks the same about him, and wants the exclusive route. They kiss.

Craig mentions the first dinner in Key West to Landon and Shep. He says he made himself vulnerable, but it freed up his life. He tells Landon that it’s not true that she never said anything bad about Kathryn. He doesn’t think they all really get along, and Landon asks why he cares because she’s so shallow. He tells her that putting a band-aid on things doesn’t help. Shep keeps interrupting, and Craig tells him to shut up. Craig starts suggesting something to Landon, and Shep interrupts him again, so Craig whacks him on the leg. He says next time he’s punching him in the mouth. Shep says he’s incapable of receiving criticism.

Shep calls Kathryn over. She tells Naomie she’s going to mediate. He asks her if Craig was the worst mediator ever seen. Craig says before drunk ass Shep got involved, he was telling Landon to apologize for what she’d said about Kathryn. Shep says Landon admitted it, and Craig calls him a drunk a-hole. Shep says Craig is, and f-u. Craig says they missed the flight because Shep wasn’t allowed on the plane, not him. Shep says Craig is the one with anger issues, and walks away, telling Craig that if you mess with the bull, you get the horns, and never forget that he’s the bull. I can’t believe anyone even talks like that. Landon gets up, saying, well done, don’t quit your day job, which is more how normal people talk. In her interview, Cameran says it’s obvious that Shep is the a-hole, and that maybe it’s time to face reality, even if it comes from Craig, of all people.

Shep leaves the venue, and later everyone is dancing. Kathryn and Thomas sit on a couch. Kathryn says that it’s nice how they’re not the ones creating the drama for once. Thomas flirts with her, poking at her Spandex leggings, and telling her she should wear silk. Cameran wonders if they’re in love again. Kathryn is glad their friends again. Thomas says that they communicated more last night than in the last two years. He’d thought she didn’t love him, and she asks if he’s kidding. She loves him, and always will. Austen asks Whitney what he thinks is going on, and he says they’ll end up in bed or killing each other – or both.

This was finale, so next time is the reunion. BTW, Cameran is pregnant. The psychic was right. Cue Twilight Zone music.

🍹 Just a bit on Southern Charm Savannah, which also had its finale tonight. I keep saying I can’t decide, yet I’ve watched pretty much the whole season, even if in bits and pieces. Somehow, this group seems to have more histrionics, but still manages to also be kind of boring. I even had a hard time keeping their names straight, and one of the girls is named Happy. The one stand-out is Ashley, who I think is a wannabe actress, since much of the drama has revolved around her. She has a son named Izzy, and up until tonight, they both lived with her husband, who has only been her friend for some time. In the final episode, she’d found a new place, and it ended with them having “a talk.” Ashley also had a masquerade ball to benefit the victims of Hurricane Matthew. A few of the group decided to split their time, and ended up arriving too late. Ashley told them never to darken her door again. Lyle also tried to propose to Catherine, and it turned into a total mess, with both of them getting weepy with high pitched voices. Apparently, he hadn’t even discussed things with her first, and she felt there was a lot they needed to work out before getting married, like life and finances. The whole thing was embarrassing, and I don’t even know if I like these people. I also don’t know if they’re worthy of a reunion either. There have been no ads for it, and there was no preview afterward.

General Hospital

Stella lambastes Jordan in the middle of the police station, listing every foul thing she’s ever done. Jordan tells everyone to get back to work, and asks Stella to step into her office. Stella says, oh, now she has shame. She didn’t when she cheated on Tommy, and passed off TJ as his son.

Michael tells Nelle he had a great time, but he has to be at work early. She calls him the responsible one, and he says Josslyn is the same way.

Meanwhile, at Carly’s place, Josslyn is on the phone with Carly, saying that Trina’s parents are home; what could go wrong? Trina shows up with beer. Well, that, for one thing.

Sam tells Monica she has to get to Puerto Rico tonight, and asks if she can keep the kids a little longer.

In Puerto Rico, Carly wants to go out for some air, and opens the door to Wavy Gravy, who points a gun at her, and clichély says, nobody move or someone is gonna die. I figure his name is probably meaningless anyway, since he’s a disposable character.

Trina tells Josslyn to put all the breakables in her mom’s room, and they probably should lock some of the rooms. She suggest that they dip into the liquor cabinet, thinking Carly will be too distracted from her trip to notice the bottle levels.

Nelle says that both she and Josslyn are lucky to have Michael in their lives. He’s looking forward to more nights like this. She kisses him, and then apologizes. He says he’s not sorry. He tells her that he’ll call her. After she goes inside, he can’t believe he said something so trite, and in her apartment, Nelle can’t believe she apologized. There’s a knock at the door. She opens it, and careens right into Michael. She asks if he’d like to come inside for a bit, and he says he’d like that for a bit.

Sam gives Monica instructions. Monica says they’ll be fine; it’s Sam she’s worried about. She wonders why Sam wants to go to Puerto Rico. Sam says Sonny is in trouble. Jason went to rescue him, and she’s going to rescue Jason.

Grinchy tells Sonny to sit, but wants Carly close by. Sonny isn’t too happy about that, and Gustaf says that Sonny’s people put his brother in the ground last year, and he came to return the favor. Okay, this name game might be fun.

Jordan says she’s made mistakes, but Stella hasn’t walked in her shoes. She never intentionally hurt anyone. Stella says she guesses Jordan hopping into bed with another man wasn’t intentional, and calls Jordan a dishonest, lying, faithless Jezebel. Curtis appears, and says, that’s enough. I’d say so.

In a private room, Curtis tells Stella that airing the family’s dirty laundry and causing a scene isn’t like her. She says she never thought they’d be in a situation like this. Curtis says that TJ is worried about her. Stella wonders how any of them can’t be upset. She says if her sister wasn’t dead, this would have killed her. TJ was all they had left, and Jordan let them live with a lie. Curtis says it was a lie of compassion. Jordan joins them, saying that she was trying to protect Thomas. Stella says she was trying to protect herself. If she hadn’t been unfaithful, Thomas would still be alive. She took everything, and now she took TJ too.

Josslyn freaks when she hears Trina inviting guys. She says she’s never done this before, but Trina says she’s got this. She even invited Josslyn’s crush, Oscar, the new kid at school. A group of kids come to the door, yelling party! and bearing liquor. Oscar brings up the rear, and he’s pretty cute.

Michael makes tea, and Nelle says she should be the one waiting on him. She says growing up with siblings must have been nice. Michael says they weren’t The Brady Bunch, but Nelle says it was still a family, and they had love. She wonders what his family is going to say when they find out they’re seeing each other. Michael says they will, because they’re not going to hide it. Nelle says he has more to lose than she does.

Monica tells Sam that Jason is pretty adept of taking care of himself. Being pragmatic, if there’s imminent danger, there’s nothing they can do, and if Sam walks into it, what about the kids? Sam says she hates that Jason left her and the kids to help Sonny. Monica says he’ll never break his loyalty, so just hope he did what he had to do and is on his way back.

Gargoyle tells Sonny that he gets to see someone he loves take their last breath; not exactly the same, but close enough. Sonny says the difference is that he and Carly are going on their feet, and his brother was on his knees, begging. Gobstopper lunges for him, but Carly whacks him on the head, and he and Sonny struggle.

Nelle gives Michael some cookies. He asks if she likes the tea, and says he could make her something different, but she tells him that he shouldn’t fuss over her. She’s concerned about how Carly is going to react, but he suggests that when they’re on a date, they not talk about other people with opinions. The only opinions he cares about are the two of theirs, and his opinion of her is great. He tells her that he’s happy she’s in his life too.

Trina gives Josslyn’s party guests a couple of rules, and suggests Josslyn talk to Oscar. Josslyn says she will later, and asks why Trina invited so many people. Trina thinks it’s a minimal number, and says Oscar is obviously into Josslyn, since he keeps looking at her. Someone yells hot tub! and the kids go outside. Except for Oscar.

Curtis says blood don’t make family. TJ is theirs, and nothing will change that. Knowing different doesn’t mean different. He asks Stella if it robs her of any memories or if she loves him any less. Stella says she promised to take care of the family, and now look at them. It’s only a matter of time before Curtis gone too. Jordan destroyed their family, and he’s either too blind or too stupid to get it.

Monica wonders what’s up with Sam that she’s not taking things in stride. Sam says Jason removed himself from Sonny’s world more than once. They were building a new life with their kids, but they’re trapped, and there’s nothing they can do.

Carly tells Sonny to get down, and shoots at Gunderson. She misses, and he comes after her, but is shot from behind by our hero Jason. Told you Gorgo wouldn’t be around long.

Stella approaches TJ at work. He asks if she’s okay. She says it’s been a long night, and she’s sorry. He says he is too, and it’s a lot to process. He just found out last year, and had to process it too. He asks if she saw Jordan, and she says she went to the station. He informs her that they have policemen and jail cells there. Ha-ha! Stella says they had an exchange, and TJ says, I’ll bet.

Jordan tells Curtis that she knew it was going to happen, but didn’t think it would be in the squad room. He says at least it’s over. She says far from it; Stella hates her. Curtis says that’s nothing new, and Jordan says she’ll hate him too – as long as he’s with her.

Nelle and Michael discuss the concert. She says it was interesting to hear Avant-garde classical music in Port Charles. She also didn’t realize nails on a blackboard was considered music. (Was it John Cage?) Michael says he hated it, and Nelle says she saw everyone else transfixed, and wondered what she was missing. He tells her to be honest. She says that her being honest would be a change. He tells her the only way to get better at something is to practice, and suggests she start.

Oscar introduces himself to Josslyn. He says everyone at school knows and likes her, even the new kid. He tells her about the kids discussing her parents, and her dad being some kind of crime boss. She says that’s her stepfather, but hopefully not for much longer. She asks if he’s not into the hot tub thing, and he thinks getting naked with strangers isn’t a good way to meet people. Tell that to any number of reality shows.

Sonny tells Jason that he’s bleeding. Carly asks who shot him. Jason says she did.

Sam tells Monica that she sees Jason slowly getting back into the business. She says that she even heard Sonny saying he has him. Monica says that doesn’t sound like Sonny, and were those his exact words? Sam sees Sonny in the room with them, telling her not to trust anyone.

Carly asks Jason if he needs anything, and he says he could use a drink. Gorgonzola is going to the hospital. He should make a full recovery, and will be extradited afterward. Sonny toasts to Carly, a woman of rare courage and horrible marksmanship. He makes another toast to Jason, who has perfect timing. Jason says that Julian warned him. Sonny wonders about Julian’s angle, and Jason thinks he was trying to impress Sam.

Monica asks if Sam is all right, and Sam says she doesn’t think so. Monica thinks she needs some rest. Sonny talks to her in her mind, and Monica repeats that she needs to rest. Sonny says she needs to cover better. How long before they take the kids and send her away? Sam’s phone rings. It’s Jason. He apologizes for not calling sooner, and says everything is taken care of. He’s flying back tonight. Sam no longer sees Sonny, only an empty chair.

Curtis tells Jordan that they just got together. She says Stella is his second mother, and he says she’ll be fine. Jordan says she’ll never forgive him for choosing her. She tells him that it’s not anyone’s decision but hers. All the damage she’s done, she doesn’t want to do anymore. She’s done, and they’re done.

Stella says TJ is responsible, like his father – his actual father. Thomas brought him up, and taught him right from wrong; he made his mark on TJ, and when she looks at him, she sees Thomas. She asks how he coped with the news. He tells her that at first, he was upset, but nothing has really changed. His mom messed up bad, but she’s still his mom.

Josslyn tells Oscar that her family situation is messed up, and Oscar says his is too. He’s expected to act a certain way and do certain things without question. He says he used to speak up and try to change things, but no one listened. She identifies. They compare notes on their family lives.

Michael tells Nelle that he’ll go first. He tells her a story about how he wore tighty-whities when he was in school, but saw the other guys in the locker room wearing boxers. He didn’t know it was a choice between one or the other, so wore boxers over his briefs. You’d think one of the male figures in his life would have clued him in. Nelle says she’s afraid of dogs because she was bitten by a chihuahua. He tells her that’s barely a dog, and they go back and forth. She’s afraid of screwing something up at Crimson, and he tells her how wonderful she is, but she says he’s supposed to be talking about himself. He says that he has excellent taste in women, and she tells him that he’s the best person she’s ever known; she has faith in him. Michael says he should go, and Nelle says maybe he should, but he doesn’t have to. He says, good, because he doesn’t want to. I’m wondering if this relationship will stick, since his batting average is pretty bad.

Josslyn says that the plus side of not joining the others is that she and Oscar get all the pretzels to themselves. He says he thought she had it all – money and the good life – but she totally gets him. He asks if she drinks, and she says not that much, but her real father is Australian, and they’re big drinkers. She takes a swig from a bottle that I assume contains alcohol. He says she’s full of surprises. She takes another gulp.

Nelle and Michael kiss. He says they should stop, but she says no.

Jordan wants to stop making mistakes, and Curtis asks if she hasn’t learned to get a second opinion. She may have decided they’re done, but he’s decided they’re not. He leaves, and she ponders.

Stella tells TJ that she understands why Curtis kept quiet. He did it for all of them. If TJ can forgive him, maybe she can find a way. TJ says it’s a start. When she asks what he means, he tells her that if she can forgive Curtis, maybe she can forgive Jordan.

Sonny tells Jason to take Carly back to Port Charles, but she says they have unfinished business and she’s staying. Jason promises he’s fine, and tells them he’ll see them back home. Outside, he calls Sam. He says he’ll be home soon, and he loves her.

Back in Sam’s head, Sonny says that Jason sounds happy and energetic, and loves what he’s doing. He says Jason is back in the business, and to get used to it. Sam says that Sonny can’t have him, but Sonny says he has him already. She says she’ll stop him, and he tells her that those are big words from a little woman. Sam says she’ll get the last words. Wait and see.

Carly tells Sonny that was exciting. She knew he wouldn’t let anything happen to her, and he says that he’d die first. They kiss, but when Sonny moves in for seconds, Carly pushes him away.

On Monday, Hayden has a job for Curtis, Kiki asks if Ava wants her to not come back, and Josslyn says OMG.

💍 I gave 90 Day Fiancé another try, this time it was Pedro and Chantal: Our Journey So Far. Whatever that was I saw last week (I’ve mercifully blocked their names from my mind) was an honest-to-God train wreck, but this was a lot better. The episode mostly revolved around Chantal having lied to her parents, saying that Pedro was just there on a student visa. It was more like they met in the Dominican Republic, are engaged, and have to get married or he’s being sent back. Chantal spent a lot of the time wailing about not having the wedding of her dreams. To be honest, I didn’t really think too much about that stuff growing up. I did have a fabulous wedding on the cheap though, but that’s because I have talented friends. We also didn’t have to whip it up in a few weeks’ time. These two didn’t even have rings. Pedro was annoying, pretending he didn’t understand, whenever Chantal’s dad asked him a question. Her brother was the best, just eyeing Pedro up and down, with folded arms. I was a mother’s helper for many years, and it was reminiscent of the stance one of “my” kids took when meeting my husband for the first time. Except she was five, and Chantal’s brother is considerably older. No surprise, the announcement – made a few days before the wedding – didn’t go over too big with the family. Chantal’s parents were understandably concerned, and wanted her to get a prenup to cover any future inheritance. She and Pedro ended up downloading one from the internet, since a lawyer required more than a one-day turnaround, and it seemed to appease them. Pedro alternately blamed Chantal for waiting so long to tell them, and blamed her parents for having an issue with no one knowing him. Chantal’s best friend put together a lovely setting in the park for the ceremony, and her parents and brother showed up at the last minute. Her father did say, however, that they’d be keeping an eye on Pedro. No doubt.

👰 You probably know by now, but The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore is a married woman. Not to Matt, thank God. She’s now wed to businessman Marc Daly. Although the nuptials were on the sly, many of their nearest and dearest were at their St. Lucia affair. The couple also had a mini honeymoon there. No big surprise, Kenya looked beautiful, as did the setting.

💸 Highly recommended is Wizard of Lies, a film about Bernie Madoff, in rotation on a few of the movie channels. The whole cast is wonderful, but Robert De Niro as Bernie is eerily accurate. It was like a combination of Wall Street type movie and a documentary, two of my favorite genres.

Something to Ponder…

🎪 Pretty soon we won’t be able to say anyone is hogging something in case we offend a pig. There will be no more bogarting a joint either. Humphrey’s great grandniece might feel disrespected. How much longer must this circus continue?

June 22, 2017 – Vacation Day Usurps GH, No Abbey Whales, a Quote & a Vacay Comparison

General Hospital

Due to someone else’s vacation beyond my control (my husband), I wasn’t able to recap GH today, but I did see most of the last half hour, walking in on a tender moment between Spencer and Nina. Here are a few takeaway points.

Spencer admitted that it’s not really his inheritance he’s upset about, but the loss of his father. He and Nina had a sweet conversation where Nina comforted him. Laura and Doc showed up, and Laura sat Spencer down for a talk. She confiscated his phone, and told him that they need to let the law take its course. This caused a light bulb to go on over Spencer’s head, and he told her Valentin isn’t going to know what hit him. Maybe he’s going to hire Diane.

Molly met Aunt Stella, who said she missed so much of TJ’s life, she didn’t even know he had a girlfriend. Molly misunderstood and let slip that Shawn is TJ’s father. This caused Stella to march down to the PCPD and confront Jordan. Now everyone knows that Shawn is TJ’s father.

Sam let Jason know what’s going on with her, but later told Molly she thinks she’s going crazy. Molly talked her down, but Sonny came to Sam in another vision, telling her that Jason is still his.

In Puerto Rico, Carly beat the pants off of Sonny at poker. When she decided to go out for some air, she opened the door to find Garvy/Kirby/Carney (the latter according to another recap), or whatever his name is, at the door.

Tomorrow, Curtis tells Stella to leave Jordan alone, Sonny goes after Garvey/Gravy, and Sam wants to head to Puerto Rico.

🍺 Although I can’t actually stomach watching it, I caught an E-News article and film clip about What Happens at The Abbey. Chris called Erin a whale, which didn’t go over too big (no pun intended) with any of the cast. Even sadder was how she told him that his opinion was meaningless, but then howled about how she’s a size two over and over. Now she’s hardly a whale, and when a man says something like that, it’s usually about control, but she’s a size two like I am, depending on the vanity size. Back when I was in my 20s, some guy called me fat when I called him on his driving skills. Rather than get bothered by this jerk, I simply said that I was not fat. He was majorly startled, probably because 1) he’d expected I cared what he thought, and 2) most women would take his comment to heart. Then, after stuttering for a moment, he admitted I was right, and that I wasn’t fat. D-bag.

General Hospital

Laura, Doc, and Spencer go to Kelly’s. Spencer says it’s kind of Doc to accommodate him, but he still wants what he had at Windemere. He thinks Charlotte should be embarrassed to call Valentin her father.

Lulu and Charlotte bring Dante’s phone to the station. Charlotte says it looks like the same place where Valentin made the video. Lulu says it is, and Charlotte wonders why, since he’s not a policeman.

Quinn tells Nathan and Amy that pictures are the best sales tool they have. She says traffic on the website spiked as soon as his picture went up. They want to approach the book the same way.  His eyes command attention, and attention turns to sales. Nathan says they can’t use his picture.

Jason leaves another message for Sonny, but gets cut off. My mistake, it’s not Kirby; it’s Garvey who’s after Sonny. I can’t help it if he’s one of those interchangeable characters who looks like a Kirby.

Carly and Sonny get caught in the rain. She wants to put something dry on, but he tells her she looks great as is.

Quinn says a new author like Nathan is in no position to make demands. Amy says he doesn’t think of himself as an author, just a typical guy giving advice. People feel more comfortable approaching him from behind a keyboard. Quinn says his face is the book, but Nathan says it’s about offering people sound guidance. She says no picture, no publisher; his face is the brand.

Nina gives Nelle some instructions. She says it’s a lot of work because they’re so backed up, but if an article holds Nelle’s interest, bring it to her attention. Nina notices a bracelet Nelle has on that Charlotte made out of macaroni. She has one too.

Dante sits Charlotte on his desk. He asks if she remembers what happened at the Nurses Ball. She says everyone was scared. Lulu says Valentin had to answer some questions about it, so he made the video there too. Dante says there are other people who have questions, and he went to answer them. Charlotte says then he’ll come back like he promised.

Jason thinks he should call Max, but Sam isn’t too sure. Jason is having enough trouble convincing them he’s out of the business. Michael knocks on the door. He has paperwork for Jason; they’re reorganizing the family trust. Jason tells him that Sonny’s phone keeps dropping out of service. Michael says that he and Carly are in Puerto Rico, and to try the landline. He asks if it’s important, and Jason says it could be.

Sonny makes a fire, and the rain is REALLY LOUD. So LOUD, I can barely hear them. Lightning strikes, and Carly jumps into Sonny’s arms. She says sorry, it seemed so close. The electricity goes out, but he says the storm shouldn’t last too long. She reminds him of when they were trapped for four days, and he said it was only going to be a couple of hours. She says it was one of her favorite times there. She lights some candles, and he talks about the time they taught the boys to play poker. She says that Sonny almost folded to let Morgan win.

Nathan tells Quinn that he appreciates the meeting, and Amy asks to confer with her client. In the hallway, Nathan tells Amy that he wants to help, but he can’t let her put his face on the book. Amy says she has a fix, but he says he can’t do his job with people thinking he’s an advice columnist. She asks him to let her try and save the deal. He says as long as his face doesn’t end up on a book cover. Amy tells Quinn they’ll do the photo shoot.

Spencer asks if anyone has been back to Windemere, but Laura wants to talk about something more pleasant. Spencer wants to address the issue of his stolen inheritance, but she says it wasn’t stolen. Doc explains about the will, and how the estate went to Valentin. Spencer lost his claim when Stavros died. They didn’t realize it, but it’s always belonged to Valentin. Spencer asks why Valentin didn’t claim it before, and Laura says it was only made known after Helena died. He asks what happens if Valentin goes to prison, and Laura tells him that Nina will probably decide.

Nina says she keeps telling herself it’s for the best; Lulu is Charlotte’s biological mother, and it might confuse her. Nelle says that isn’t true. She got to see the family up close, and Charlotte adores her. Nina says she did, but she’s living with Lulu now. Nelle thinks it’s best for Nina to stay in Charlotte’s life; there’s nothing confusing about a mom and a stepmom. Nina says Lulu wouldn’t be happy with it, but Nelle says Charlotte’s happiness is more important than Lulu’s comfort level.

Jason tells Michael that an old associate might be coming after Sonny. Michael wonders why Julian would say anything, and Sam says he claims that he’s trying to be better person, even though they don’t believe it. Michael says he’ll give Max the guy’s name, and have him tighten security. Jason asks if he’s sure that’s all. Michael promises that he’s not going anywhere near his father’s business, but that brings him to other reason he’s here. He asks if Jason wants to join him at ELQ.

Carly and Sonny drink to the best hurricane he can remember. She tells Sonny that he makes strong drinks, and he says they just have to relax and wait out the storm. She says it’s better than waiting at the airport. They both hear some noise outside, and Carly asks, what’s that? Sonny tells her to stay there and he’ll check.

Amy tells Quinn that they’ll do the shoot on Nathan’s terms. They’re not to show his face full to the camera. They want to preserve the mystery, so he’s in a shadow and only one eye is shown. Quinn says the customer needs a reason to pick up the book in the first place, and Amy says, exactly. A man’s face is in the shadow, with one brilliant blue eye showing; it makes them curious pick up the book, and it’s sold. Quinn says they’ll do it her way.

Lulu says there are new things Charlotte is getting used to, like thinking of them as family. Charlotte says papa and Nina are family too. Lulu says he had to go away, and truthfully, none of them know when he’s coming back, but she has plenty of people who love her. Charlotte says sometimes Spencer isn’t nice, and Lulu says that Charlotte can always come to her.

Nina looks at the family photo on her desk. Nelle comes into the office, and says she found something Nina might like. It’s a backstage account of a fashion show from an anonymous dresser. Nina likes a new point of view, and says she’ll read it. She asks Nelle to pick up a quinoa/kale salad that Kelly’s makes special for her, and tells Nelle to get lunch for herself too.

Michael talks about sustainable energy sources getting pushed back from Ned, and how he needs someone to get accurate feedback on the profitability. He tells Jason that there’s a lot of travel involved. Jason says he has no experience, but Michael says he’s a problem solver. When going over qualifications for a project manager, he realized Jason would be perfect.

Carly picks up a fireplace poker, and almost hits Sonny. He says good thing he checked. An intruder is outside, and it’s no one she wants to mess with. I’m thinking it’s a racoon or something.

Michael needs someone he can trust, and can’t think of anyone better, but Jason says it’s not the right time. He says Michael will need him to be away, and he’s been away enough. Sam says they can make it work. Michael gets a text from Nelle wanting to meet at Kelly’s, and he replies that he’s on his way. Sam asks if there’s a time limit, and Michael tells her the middle of next month. She asks if they can think about it for a couple of days, and he says okay, but needs to fill the position asap. He leaves, and Jason asks if she’s trying to get rid of him. Sam says that she wants him to have a challenge not involving Sonny

Carly says that parrot is still here? It’s Tito, the mean escape artist parrot. She asks if he’s okay with a rogue parrot that scared her to death, and tries to bite the guests. Sonny asks why she’s so jumpy.

Jason didn’t realize that Sam was still worried about Sonny. She says he seems fixated on warning him, and turned Michael down without even thinking about it. She wonders if he’s worried that he’ll be away if something happens to Sonny.

Quinn says once contracts are signed, they’ll schedule the photo shoot. She thinks it has mass appeal, and Man Landers is compelling. She’s overnighting the contracts. In the hallway, Amy is thrilled. She thinks the mystery man thing works for them, and thanks Nathan for trusting her and not walking out. She says it’s a huge deal for her and her brother, and hugs him.

Spencer asks what Nina has to do with it; a virtual stranger gets to decide the fate of Windemere? Laura says Valentin’s team of lawyers are probably hashing it out, and he asks if it wasn’t Shakespeare who said kill all the lawyers? He goes to bathroom, and Laura tells Doc that she was hoping boarding school would reign in his behavior. Doc says it helps create distance between him and his grief, and he keeps control with things as they were. Laura thanks him, and he says it’s been a blessing. They’ve fulfilled his life in ways he never imagined. They kiss.

Michael asks Nelle what the good news is, and she tells him about the job at Crimson. She says he was right. The bird pooping on her shoulder might have been good luck, and she thinks things are turning around.

Amy understands what an imposition it is, and how Nathan isn’t comfortable, but Nathan says he’s glad to help. She says Chet would do the same in his position, because he’s a good person. He says he’s doing it for her.

Michael asks how Nelle decided on fashion publication, and Nelle says it decided on her. She thinks it’s going to be a good fit. Michael says they have to celebrate. She says she’s just there to pick up lunch. He says ELQ is sponsoring a concert in park, and asks her to go with him.

Sam says she’d know Jason was safe if he worked for Michael. He says he’ll be right here, and not overseas working for Sonny or troubleshooting for ELQ. He says he doesn’t regret leaving Sonny’s business. He says he’s worried though, and wants to fly down. She says he can’t

Sonny tells Carly to relax. She says everywhere she looks, she sees the boys and goes over memories. She says the four of them were together, and there was enough time for everything. Sonny says time ran out. They look sadly at each other.

Nathan asks if Charlotte is joining the PCPD, but Lulu says they’re headed to Lila’s Kids. Dante says thanks for the phone, and asks how Nathan is.

Nelle asks if it’s a date, and Michael asks if they’re allowed. She says yes, and tells him she’ll see him later.

Doc thinks Spencer’s been gone a long time, and goes to check. Nelle says hello to Laura, and asks how Charlotte is. Laura says she’s enjoying Lila’s Kids, especially the arts and crafts. Doc comes back, saying that Spencer is gone.

Spencer walks into Nina’s office. He asks if he’s addressing Nina Reeves or Nina Cassadine, and says they need to talk.

Sam says Jason claimed he didn’t want to be part of the business. He says he just wants Sonny to know there’s a threat. Sam says she’s coming with him.

Carly tells Sonny that she sees Morgan everywhere on the island, and the worst thing that could happen really happened. Sonny says their son is gone. Carly says that no matter how happy you are, it’s just a moment that can disappear. He tells her thinking that way robs them of what they have right now. he says maybe they can be happy again. They kiss. Someone lurks in the shadows.

Tomorrow, Laura looks for Spencer, Jordan wants to cool things off with Curtis, and Sam isn’t letting Jason out of her sight.

The Real Housewives of New York City

Carole meets Tinsley for breakfast. Tinsley says her mother is coming to town, and accompanying her to look for apartments. They talk about going to the NY Botanical Garden Winter Wonderland Ball, and Carole looks up the pictures online, using her phone. Tinsley is happy to be in the press for something good. She says she’s glad to be back in the swing of things, and that she’s still going to counseling for what happened to her. Carole says she should redefine herself, starting with cutting her hair. In her interview, Carole says reinvention is not repetition. Tinsley says she’s not changing her look or her life.

Sonja packs for her trip, while Frenchie makes hors d’oevres. He’s going to be spending part of his time in Paris. Sonja says she doesn’t like when he walks in on her in the bathroom, and he tells her she should close the door. She says Tinsley keeps saying she’s leaving, but she wants to make sure that Tinsley is comfortable back in the city first. Sonja talks to Frenchie about how the girls are gossiping. Frenchie says he doesn’t like that they make a bigger deal out of Rocco than he is. In her interview, Sonja says she has a good time with Rocco, and until she doesn’t, she’s going to see him.

Ramona facetimes with Ashley. She’s proud of herself for redecorating without a decorator. I had to do that after we had a flood, and didn’t think it was that huge of an accomplishment. She’s having a sort of housewarming party, and invited Bethenny, wanting to bridge the gap. Ashley thinks she should give it space, and then try to straighten it out for the sake of their play friend group.

Tinsley and realtor friend Chris meet with her mother, Dale. Chris shows them a four-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment that’s only nine grand a month. Tinsley says her mother has no idea what downtown is, and thinks Manhattan is only the Upper East Side. They move on.

Carole’s friend/interior designer, John, arrives. She wants to get her 60-year-old couch recovered. She dumps fabric swatches out of a tote bag. John thinks cat-friendly is the way to go. Adam shows up, and Carole gives him some of the stuff he left behind. In her interview, she says things are going much better now that Adam has moved out, since she lives in a tiny apartment. Her definition of tiny being different from mine. The disagree over who owns a Buddha head. Omg, this is so high school.

Dale is much more approving of the next apartment. It is pretty impressive, and also nine thousand a month. Chris thinks it’s more bang for her buck and much more “her.” Tinsley is afraid of moving too fast, but won’t feel like she’s really back until she has her own place. She starts to get teary, and Dale suggests staying at a hotel. The apartment has its own elevator, and I want to cry.

Frederik visits Bethenny’s loft, and says that it smells cleaner. We flash back to him telling her it’s too cluttered. He thinks it looks a lot better and you can breathe now. He says get rid of the bar and they’ll get five and a quarter (million). Bethenny has spent a lot on the bar, and is concerned about it breaking if they try to move it.

Carole calls Dorinda, asking if she’s packed for Washington, where they’re going to protest at the Women’s March. They’re leaving in the morning. Carole is taking her lucky monkey.

Sonja meets Rocco at a bar and bakery. He tells her that Frank Sinatra practically lived there. In her interview, Sonja says she’s between a Rocco and a hard place. Since Frenchie knows about Rocco, she now has to tell Rocco about Frenchie. Rocco has had the place closed so that they can have dinner privately. They discuss Tom, and Rocco says he cheated when he was young. Sonja starts to stammer, and tells him about taking a complete stranger home one night. She thought he was going back to Paris, but now he’s smitten with her. She dances around the fact that he’s moved in. She tells Rocco that there aren’t any more guys in her life like either one of them. If I didn’t know what she was saying, I would have no idea what she was saying. Rocco says anyone can have sex, but friendship is important. In her interview, Sonja says Frenchie is possibly an infatuation, while Rocco is in it for the long haul. Rocco asks where she thinks it’s going with them, and Sonja answers without answering. They toast to the next kiss.

Dorinda and Carole march. We see lots of pink hats. Dorinda’s daughter, Hannah, joins them as well. Carole says she wants to hold this administration accountable, and feels they’re standing on the right side of history. Dorinda feels like a better person for being involved, and says this is huge. Hannah is proud to be a woman. It’s all well and good, but sounds like the Occupy Wall Street thing, where the protesters never really said what they were protesting about. Today’s word for this whole episode is, vague.

Tinsley wants to get rid of the tattoo of her husband’s initials, and her friend Anika says she didn’t even take her ex’s last name. Ha-ha! Ramona gets ready for her party. She has a cool flat screen TV where a non-Yule log is burning. Carole thinks Ramona is more traditional than the apartment reflects, and that she’s sporting an I Dream of Jeannie vibe. Dale compliments Ramona on her high ponytail. Dorinda presents her with a candle. Harry arrives. Ramona thinks she’s the only one he hasn’t dated. He asks about Sonja, who’s late. Tinsley has known him forever, but wouldn’t touch him with a ten-foot pole. He makes inappropriate comments and follows her.

Sonja blows in. She’s not drinking again, and goes the other way when she sees Harry. Too late; he’s seen her. She tells him she’s turned a new leaf, and he’s in Paris. Everyone makes small talk. Luann is happy that everyone is happy for her and Tom. She assumes Bethenny isn’t coming, and Dorinda says that Ramona and Bethenny aren’t talking. Ramona says she did invite Bethenny, but she RSVP’d she wasn’t coming. In her interview, Ramona thinks the RSVP is a step forward. Carole suggest that Ramona call or text privately, but Ramona wanted to show there were no hard feelings – even though Bethenny was “as bad as [she] was.” Here comes that backhand. She tells Carole she doesn’t remember exactly what she said, and Carole tells her that she’d had too much to drink. Dorinda says she uses alcohol as an excuse all the time. Ha-ha! Ramona says she loves Bethenny, and does want to apologize. Harry bugs Sonja.

Ramona says she wasn’t really thinking when she made up the guest list. Missy, who’d thought she was dating Tom and walked in on him with Luann, is there. Tom tells Luann that Missy is happy for them. In her interview, Luann says it’s healthy to be friends with your exes. Harry pumps Missy for the deets, but she doesn’t want to talk about it. Dorinda vogues. Sonja says that Ramona is a pot stirrer, like we didn’t know, and that Ramona has been telling her what everything cost. They hear something crash in another room, and Sonja calls out, $12.99!

Next time, Bethenny wants to go snowboarding, Tinsley goes to therapy, and Dorinda comes for Sonja at yet another dinner fail.

🍲 On MasterChef, lifeguards were fed, but I was left with the question of wth is a purple green bean? If it’s purple, how can it be green? I have to admit to being a little happy when contestant Jennifer’s pork was undercooked. She’s a debt collector who claims her job is stressful, but I’ll bet it’s not nearly as stressful as it is for the people she hounds. Gordon basically said she let a setback cause her to “disintegrate.” Sadly, the balcony got polled, and she got to stay. She seems like a real jerk who can barely form a sentence, so there’s hope for more mistakes.

🎣 The challenge teams on The f Word were Slaw & Order (cops from Peachtree, GA – a gorgeous town) vs the The Food Bosses (a family who moved from the big city to a simpler life in rural TN). They made a New York strip steak with a dry rub, sautéed mushrooms, and potatoes. Andy Cohen had a cook-off with Gordon, and although I missed what they were cooking, Andy burned it. He doesn’t exactly strike me as the chef type. More like a Seamless customer. Joel McKale did some grilling, and Gordon did some scuba diving. He caught and cooked some spiky Caribbean pest fish that don’t belong in Islamorada, Florida, but make a tasty meal. Leslie Jones (love her! and she looks fantastic!) discussed grits and other food with Gordon. She also did a guess-the-food game, and we’ve all been forewarned that we probably don’t want to eat durian fruit. Or grasshoppers.

Gordon periodically checks with the diners about the team challenge, and I laughed when one said the potatoes were like something he’d make in the middle of the night when he was drunk. Personally, that’s when I prefer a can of Chef Boyardee anything. On Father’s Day, Gordon and daughter Mathilda challenged the world record holders, the McCurdys, for the number of eggs cracked with one hand. No shells in the glass, and one hand behind the back. I might be good for two or three. Maybe one. The McCurdys kept their title, bringing up their total as well. The Food Bosses won the challenge by a narrow margin. Next week, Gordon goes undercover again, and on a lake trip.

⌛ Andy Cohen: Then & Now brought us Being Rich: the 80s tonight, and how those spending habits then affect us now. Erika Girardi explained that money only brings out who you really are – if you’re a poor a-hole, you’ll be a rich a-hole. Mega-mansions; Donald Trump’s golden penthouse; the Playboy mansion (purchased in the 70s for one million), which Mauricio Umansky just sold for $100 million to Hugh Hefner’s neighbor, under the proviso that Hugh gets to live there in perpetuity, which is a scary thought; and Lisa Vanderpump’s Villa Rosa (Giggy’s house!). They’ve downsized since then, but she told us that as long as she and Ken have their own bathrooms, they’ll stay married. I understand. Kyle Richards said that today it’s all about the “smart house,” but I say no thanks. I’ve read Ray Bradbury’s short stories. A parade of amazing weddings came next. Carson Kressley weighed in on the topic, and I noticed he was wearing some seriously distressed jeans with a nice sportcoat, tie and pocket square. Shame on him. Larry Fortensky, the first trophy husband, is discussed, and it’s pointed out that while lavish weddings were once the thing, now it’s secret weddings a la Adele or Branjelina. Body maintenance was kept a secret in the 80s, but not really. One of Andy’s guests suggested that one day we’ll be able to download our soul into the cloud, and I almost fell off my chair laughing. Pre-nups! The Cat Lady! Who, btw, got billions in alimony, with the caveat that she can’t use any of it on plastic surgery. Greed is good, and Silicon Valley rich vs hedge fund rich. Bill Gates is worth $86 billion today, just in case you were wondering. Private jets, limos and yachts, and Robin Leach revealing that the most outrageous limo had a landing pad, hot tub, and a putting green. It was all about exclusivity and excess. Ah, the good old days. I miss them, and I’ll miss this show, as it’s the season finale. I love a good retrospective.

General Hospital

Alexis sees Julian at the MetroCourt. She says she was looking for him. She tells him that Olivia-F has agreed to maintain the status quo. He says that’s good, but Alexis is surprised at his lack of reaction, and asks what’s on his mind.

Amy is a wreck. Nathan says he can tell, and not to make a big deal about it in her head. She says the publishing of the book is contingent on meeting Man Landers. He says he’s there, and she can do all the talking. She thanks him for stepping up when he didn’t have to. She doesn’t know how she’ll repay him. She throws her arms around him and they hug. Nina sees them.

Nelle asks a waitress if Kelly’s is hiring. She needs some steady income, and asks how long she’ll have to wait to find out if she’s hired. Bobbie pops out of nowhere, and says when hell freezes over.

Josslyn tells Michael that he’s the sanest person in the family next to her father, and asks if Carly is getting back together with Sonny.

In Puerto Rico, Sonny and Carly wait for the distributor. Sonny says he must be running on island time, and asks if she’d like to join him for breakfast.

Jason comes home and sees that Sam is awake. She asks how long she was out, and he says probably about ten hours. He tells her that she’s been operating on no sleep whatsoever, and she says she’s feeling better. She takes the knife out of her boot when he goes to the kitchen.

Amy says if they want Nathan’s real name, chalk it up to mystique. She says his suit is missing something, and takes a pocket square out of her purse, telling him it brings out the color of his eyes. Nina joins them, saying he’s looking sharp. She wants to know if Nathan wants to catch up, and he tells Amy he’ll meet her. Nina wonders what he’s been up to. It’s been difficult for her at work, finding a replacement for Maxie, and must be really difficult for him. He asks what’s with the hint dropping, and she asks what’s up with him and Amy.

Bobbie says Nelle will get a job there over her dead body; she’s co-owner. Nelle thought she was a nurse, and Bobbie says she has a lot of irons in the fire, so Nelle won’t be getting a job there. Nelle says she’ll look elsewhere. She knows Bobbie hates her and why, and asks if it’s now Bobbie’s life mission to destroy hers. Bobbie says go back to Atlanta, and she’ll wish her well. Nobody wants her in Port Charles.

Michael tells Josslyn that Sonny and Carly are on the island, since there was a problem with liquor distributor. Josslyn is like, please. She told Carly it was just a story, and got her phone confiscated and sent to her room for her trouble. Michael says that Carly is the mom, Josslyn is the kid, and she can’t police her mother. Josslyn says so she’s off to Puerto Rico with the man she’s supposed to be divorcing. She says that Michael is too smart to believe it. Sonny is going to try and get her back. Michael asks if that would be so bad. Josslyn says after what he did to her dad, she never wants to live under the same roof as him again.

Sonny tells Carly that no matter how it shakes out, she’s always welcome there; it’s her place too. She says the memories are enough. They toast with their coffee to good memories.

Alexis says maybe Julian’s visitation can be increased. He tells her that he needs to get back to the office, and promises they’ll talk soon. When she leaves, he approaches a guy at the bar. The guy, Kirby, says that Julian isn’t returning his phone calls. Julian says he’s out on bail, and things are hectic. Kirby says, not so fast, old friend.

Sam recalls getting into bed with the knife. Jason asks what she wants for breakfast, and then asks why she’s holding a knife. She says she found it on the coffee table, and Jason thinks he left it there. She says she feels a lot better and her head feels clearer, and apologizes for acting strange. Jason says no problem, and promises no more surprises or lack of communication.

Nina tells Nathan that she doesn’t want to pry, and that Amy is right about the pop of color bringing out his eyes. He says that he’s just doing a favor, and it’s nothing she needs to worry about. He says he’s not having an affair. He loves Maxie, but does have somewhere he has to go.

Nelle tells Bobbie she’ll stay out of her way if Bobbie stays out of hers. Bobbie says she has  better idea; Nelle should stay away from Michael. It’s sad that she can’t tell difference between affection and pity. Nelle flashes back to what Michael told her; how it wasn’t pity he felt. She tells Bobbie to forget she said anything, and starts to leave, but Bobbie grabs her arm. Nelle tells her to get off, and Nina comes in, asking if there’s  problem.

Josslyn talks to Michael about what a creep Sonny is, and how he’s affected Carly. She wants Carly to hate Sonny as much as she does. She tells Michael to talk to her and tell her to build a wall around her heart that Sonny can’t get past. Michael says it’s not up to them if she decides to forgive Sonny. Josslyn says she never will.

Carly tells Sonny that she can feel her blood pressure dropping, it’s so relaxing. Sonny gets a call. He says they’re staying there tonight.

Julian says that Kirby knows where all the bodies are buried, but Kirby says he’d never roll over on anyone, and his problem has more to do with tactics on the west coast. Julian tells Kirby to cut to the chase. Kirby says they want same thing – Sonny out of the picture for good.

Amy coaches Nathan. He tells her it’s going to be okay and take a deep breath. It’s Marian Colby! (Actually, it’s Jennifer Bassey playing new character Quinn Danvers.) Quinn says Amy must be the voice behind Man Landers, and Amy says she’s his manager. Quinn tells him that she’s a fan. Advice columns are a balancing act between sensitive and macho, and he’s impressive for a newcomer. Amy says he’s shy in person. Quinn says this isn’t a book tour, just a casual conversation, and wants Man Landers to speak for himself.

Nelle says she was just leaving, and Bobbie says not soon enough. She has to take a call, and suggests Nelle not be there when she gets back. Nelle thanks Nina. Nina doesn’t like to see someone getting kicked while they’re down. Nelle says she deserves it, and Nina asks why she’s choosing to stay in Port Charles.

Josslyn tells Michael not to act like he’s never been mad at Sonny. Michael says that the older he gets, he realizes that everything isn’t black and white. He forgives Sonny because he’s family. In life, people have disagreements, and if the both of them went at it, he’d never cut her out of his life. He tells her that nothing can change family, and they hug.

Kirby isn’t kidding around; it’s time for Sonny to go. Julian says that Kirby has a good thing going on the west coast. He should learn from his mistakes, and leave Sonny’s territory alone. His brother went up against Sonny’s associates, and it didn’t end well. Julian says the business comes with a risk, and he wouldn’t do anything unprovoked. Kirby talks about Ava, thinking Sonny has something to do with it, and they both have reason for payback. They should team up and make him an example. Julian says he has no reason to get involved. He’s out on bail and under surveillance; if he gets caught up in it, he’ll just get caught, and he wants something better for his future.

Sonny tells Carly that the distributor won’t be there until after 5 pm, so they can’t settle the problem until the morning. He says they can have dinner, and he can have the staff fix up a room for her. Carly accuses him of setting the whole thing up.

Quinn says she has high hopes for big sales. Man Landers’s writing speaks to the everyman demographic. It’s witty, insightful, and relatable, with enough flair to hold the reader’s attention. Nathan knows more than Amy thought, and is able to quote himself.

Kirby says that Julian doesn’t get to walk away. Julian says he’s the exception to the rule, and even if he wanted back in, who’d risk doing business with him? It’s better for them both if he doesn’t get involved. Kirby says he’ll take care of Sonny himself, but won’t forget Julian’s lack of solidarity. After he leaves, Alexis, who’s been lurking around, says that sounded intense. She came back because Julian was acting odd. She asks if he was expecting Kirby, and Julian says he’s been trying to avoid him. Alexis heard enough to know that Kirby is targeting Sonny.

Carly says she knows every move in Sonny’s repertoire. Sonny says she’s the owner; he doesn’t have any strings to pull. He tells her to call the distributor at 5:30, and she can double-check.

Sam tells Jason that moving forward, she’s not going to let her exhaustion spiral out of control since they have a tribe of babysitters. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Julian. Jason says it’s not a good time, but Julian asks Jason to hear him out; it’s important.

Carly tells Sonny she’s free for the night, and sorry for what she said. This place meant a lot to her, and she knew it would ignite memories. She didn’t want to miss what used to be. Sonny says they’re getting divorced, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be in each other’s lives or that she’s not important to him.

Bobbie runs to Michael, telling him that Nelle has no plans to leave, and she can’t help thinking he’s the reason. Nelle might have misconstrued his sympathy. He asks if she told Nelle that, and Bobbie says it’s typical of her to play victim; she’s working an agenda. Michael says that if Bobbie is right, it’s his mistake to make.

Nelle tells Nina she doesn’t want to go back to Florida or Atlanta. Nina asks what about somewhere else, but Nelle says it won’t matter without a job. Nina says she’ll give Nelle a good reference, but Nelle says it makes more sense financially to stay. Nina says Michael is the reason she’s staying, and Nelle says maybe, but it won’t matter unless she gets job. Nina tells her that she might have an alternative. It’s been chaotic since Maxie left. She has an assistant, but needs an office manager. She asks if Nelle is up for it.

Quinn takes a call in the other room. Nathan tells Amy he figured he should read up on her advice. He says that she’s a strong, compelling writer, but too bad she has to hide. She tells him again that men won’t take advice form a woman. He doesn’t like taking credit for her, but she says he’s doing her the favor of a lifetime, and the charade won’t be for much longer. Quinn walks in and asks what charade?

Jason invites Julian in. Julian appreciates Jason being protective. He tells them that Kirby wants Sonny eliminated.

Amy tells Quinn that she wasn’t talking about a literal charade, but everything is hypothetical until the contract is signed. Quinn says that she’s been given the green light for the book deal. Once the contract is finalized, they’ll have plenty of support, but first they need to have a photo shoot. She says that Nathan is a real gift from the publication gods; they’ll sell a lot of books with his picture.

Nelle says she feels that she’s qualified, but is Nina sure? Nina says it would make her life easier, and she feels like she owes Nelle. She clearly didn’t want to spy on Valentin, and Nina has regrets. She wants a chance to make it better. Nelle accepts the job.

Bobbie says that Michael is an adult, capable of making his own decisions, but as his grandmother, she’s always going to worry about him and give her opinion. It’s up to him whether he listens. He says that’s fair enough, and she says he’s like his mother – and her; he insists on making his own choices. He tells her that he’ll live with the consequences, and for the record, nothing has happened yet. Bobbie says, famous last words. Yep. Along with, watch this! She leaves, and Josslyn says he’s doing the same thing with Nelle that Carly is doing with Sonny. Michael says he can say all he wants, but Carly isn’t going to listen; she has to figure out for herself. Josslyn says she thinks he’s wrong and a possible hypocrite, but thanks for talking. Outside, she calls her friend Trina, saying that she has the house to herself tonight, so they can have some people over. That should be good.

Carly tells Sonny that it means a lot to her that they can be civil and respect each other. She says since they don’t have to work, she’s going to sit by the pool. He suggests a walk by the ocean.

Sam asks Julian why not go to Sonny? Julian says that Max probably has orders to shoot him on site. Jason wonders if it’s a trap. He tells them to ask Alexis; she was there. They can tell Sonny or not, but he thought they should know. He leaves, and Jason thinks he should call Sonny. Sam wonders if Julian is telling the truth, and Jason says, what if he is?

Carly tells Sonny, why not? Sonny says he’ll meet her outside. He misses Jason’s call.

Tomorrow, Quinn says no pictures no publication, Nelle thinks Charlotte should stay in Nina’s life, and there’s a mystery in Puerto Rico.

The Haves and the Have Nots

When we last left, Quincy Jr. had been shot. Benny says they have to get him to a hospital, but Hannah tells him that it’s too late. Someone yells to call for an ambulance. Benny tells Quincy Jr. that they’re getting him help, but I think we’re past that.

Jeffrey sees that Melissa has cut her wrists. He calls 911, and screams at her why did she do this? He gets some towels, and tries to stop the bleeding. He yells for his mother. He asks Melissa about her mother, and she says she’s just like his. He tells her that he doesn’t hate her, but she’s fading fast. He runs to Veronica’s room. She tells him she’s trying to sleep, and to put some bass in his voice. She sees blood on him, and wakes up quickly. He tells her it’s Melissa, and Veronica thinks she lost the baby. When she sees what’s going on, she tells Melissa that if she loses the baby, she’ll kill her herself, calling her a dumb bitch. She asks Jeffrey what he did. He says her dad died. Veronica said he was going to die anyway, and screams at Melissa that people die. Jeffrey tells her to shut up, and calls 911 again. She keeps smacking Melissa, and when Jeffrey tells her to stop it, claims she’s trying to save Melissa’s life. She tells Jeffrey the call is being recorded, and to shut up. He tells her not to hit Melissa again. Veronica tells Melissa that if she dies, she’ll make her family’s life a living hell. Jeffrey wants to stop the bleeding, and Veronica goes to get gloves. We hear the sirens, and he tells Veronica to go open the door.

Candace goes to Erica’s hotel room. Erica says she doesn’t have any money, and Candace says she knows. Erica is surprised that Candace didn’t get any marks tonight. She says the Presidential candidate Charles Frederickson is staying there, and David knows him. She thought Candace was staying at the Fountain Drop, but Candace says she’s staying in the same hotel that Erica is. Erica says David might be coming back, and Candace gives her the room number she’s in. She fixed the door so it stayed open after the guest left, and says she probably has until housekeeping comes. She gets a call from Benny, but she doesn’t answer.

Candace asks how it’s going with David, and Erica says it’s going. Candace asks if they’ve had sex yet, and Erica says they did, and under that suit is the body of an athlete. Candace says here she is with nothing again, and she’s been here before. Erica tells her no looking back, and Canace says she had millions. Erica says Candace is her girl, and she can borrow what she likes. While Candace looks in the closet, Erica texts War, telling him Candace is there. War tells her about the shootout, and that Quincy Jr. Is dead. He says let him know where Candace is in a couple of hours. Candace picks out a dress, and Erica says she was just texting good-night to David. Candace asks if she’s falling in love with him, but Erica says she’s not.

Erica asks if Candace is going to talk to Benny, but she says no. If Erica needs her, call the Batphone. I swear that’s what she said. Erica wants a hug, and Candace says she’ll call later. Erica asks if she wants to stay in her room for old time’s sake. Candace says she’ll call. I think she’s picking up a weird vibe.

Oscar sees David at the bar. He says it’s been a long night, and David says him too. Neither one of them want to talk about it, but David says maybe after a drink. Oscar thanks him for the Jim referral. He’s looking for Jim’s son. He asks if Wyatt is gay, since it gets a man to trust him easier, and David says no, but he has a mean drug problem. He says he thinks he blew it with Erica and pushed too hard. He didn’t do anything; they both decided not to, but suddenly she asked him to stop when they were making out. Oscar says she’s good, and David asks what he means. He says either it got too much for her to handle, or she didn’t like it, but David doesn’t think that’s it. Oscar says she could also be setting him up. David thinks Oscar has spent too much time with Candace. Oscar says that David is probably moving too fast, and to watch his heart. David says that’s not the part of his anatomy that needs attention. Oscar says he’s been able to get a lot of fortunes after a divorce, and sex is the quickest way to his heart; he needs to take his time. David gets a text from Erica saying she hopes he made it home safe. Oscar tells him to ride it out for tonight. Let her wonder where his head is. David doesn’t want to play games, but Oscar says there are new rules. David tells Oscar that he’s old school.

Jim arrives at the bar. David wonders what Candace is doing here, and Jim says probably doing what she does best. Jim says David is the only one in the room who hasn’t slept with her, and calls her over. She says, isn’t this predictable? Jim asks how she is, and she says as good as she looks. He tells her hiding isn’t her style, and David says maybe avoiding prison is; there’s a warrant out for her arrest. He says as an officer of the court he could do it, and there’s much joking about handcuffs. Jim says the photos are in possession of the police, and announces that Candace also killed Quincy and buried him in her backyard. David says that’s not very smart. Jim talks about nosy neighbor Pearl, and says there are cameras everywhere. Oscar asks what Quincy looks like, and Candace says he looks like the one who beat his ass before he ran out the door. She tells David that Jeffrey helped her. David doesn’t believe it. Jim asks to talk to Candace alone. Candace says she doesn’t think David will call the police until he checks in with his son.

Jim says he misses Candace. He asks if she has a room there, and she says no. He suggests they go to her place, and she asks if he means the one he foreclosed on. He knows she has nothing left, and asks if it was worth it. She says it was fun, and he asks who she’s blackmailing now. He tells her that he wants her, and she says he wants to trap her. He tells her to get over her suspicion, and holds out a drink. He says that he won; take the martini. She says she doesn’t want it or him. They banter a bit, and he keeps telling her to take the martini, reminding me of Ruth Gordon in Rosemary’s Baby for some reason. Candace says she has to go. Jim says he’ll be at the bar.

David calls Jeffrey and leaves a message to call him immediately.

Benny and Hannah sit in the hospital waiting room. Benny asks for the phone. He goes to make a call while Hannah sits dejected. Benny calls Kathryn. She asks what’s wrong and where’s Hannah? He says they need help; they’re at the hospital. He starts to cry, and says his nephew died. She asks how, and Benny tells her that he was shot. Kathryn asks what hospital, and says she’s on her way. He thanks her.

At Wyatt’s place, the interventionists can’t figure out why the detox isn’t working. They want to take him to the hospital, but he doesn’t want to go. They get him up and out.

Benny tries to give Hannah some water, but she doesn’t want it. She says they killed him. He had it hard, and she tried to give him a better life. Benny tells her not to get upset, but she doesn’t know how she can’t be. She says Candace doesn’t get it. It’s a cycle that just keeps going around and around, and getting worse and worse. She says there’s a loop, and it’s all going to come back around. She was trying to stop it before it was too late, and now he’s dead. She calls out to Jesus. Benny suggests they pray. He reminds her of a prayer she used to say with him. She says she can’t pray, and he tells her not to say that. He says let’s go back, but she says she can’t go back there. I think the room is probably going to be a crime scene for a while anyway. He tells her to stay there; he’s going to handle a few things.

Mitch shows up, and Benny starts to cry. Mitch tells him to be cool, and not let his mom see him. Rose appears with her crew. Mitch says it wasn’t supposed to be like this. It wasn’t supposed to happen. Rose wants to know who shot at him, and Benny says it was War, and tells her where he is. Rose tells someone on the phone to put DA Jennifer’s body in the trunk of War’s car, and let all hell break loose. They have to send a message that it’s never right to go after a Malone.

Veronica asks if Jeffrey heard anything about the baby. He says he doesn’t know anything. Veronica goes to the desk, but the nurse says the doctor is with patients. Veronica says the only important patient is the one carrying her unborn grandchild. The nurse says she’ll page him when he’s done. Veronica says it would be a shame to spend all those years in nursing school to ask if you want fries with that. She tells the nurse that she wants to see a doctor within three minutes. She boots a lady out of the seat next to Jeffrey, and then boots her out of the next one she tries to sit in, saying it’s a private conversation. Jeffrey says she just can’t not be a bitch. She says he’s trying to be one. He says Melissa tried to kill herself because of Veronica. Veronica says don’t blame her; she didn’t hold the blade. She reminds him that she’s his attorney.

Veronica calls her maid, Rosita, saying that even though she has the day off, she has to come in or risk her job. Or she could come tonight. Melissa had an accident, and she needs the house around it cleaned. She says she doesn’t care about the bus. She tells Jeffrey it’s not her problem if Rosita has to get a bus at 4 am. That’s probably going to be another crime scene. For a bunch of people who are all involved in law somehow, no one ever thinks of that.

David calls Jeffrey. Jeffrey says he’s at the hospital and explains. David asks if Veronica is behind it, and Jeffrey says he knows it. David says he’s on his way, but Jeffrey says she’s here. David says he has to talk to Jeffrey in person. Veronica asks what he wants, and Jeffrey says he was just checking up on him. Veronica asks if he’s coming, and when Jeffrey says he is, she says that’s good. She checks herself out in her compact, and complains about the bags under her eyes. Jeffrey says she has no sympathy at all, and she says no, she doesn’t. At least you know where you are with this sociopath.

Suddenly, Kathryn is standing in front of Veronica.

Next time, Oscar wants Candace to be his partner, Rose tells Jim that she wants to send a clear message, and Kathryn comforts Hannah. It looks like a great season to come with “twisted, tantalizing Tyler.”

Below Deck Mediterranean

I hope no onions are involved with this charter.

Adam leaves the dinner on the crew’s night off, and Malia follows Adam back to the boat because they’re both middle schoolers. Hannah asks where Adam went, and I laugh when Bugs says that he went “home.” I guess it is when you’re on charter. Max says that killed the vibe, and Wes no longer wants to know Malia.

Omg, Malia and Adam talk like something out of a bad romance novel. You came all the way back just for me? We might be connecting on a level that’s surpassing the yacht relationship. Gag. She asks if he wants to party, and he says he’s a good bartender. She asks if he’s going to put onions in it, and I have to admit that’s pretty funny.

Hannah and Lauren talk about Bugs. Hannah says ever since Adam made the comment that Bugs should be chief stew, she hasn’t said a word. They go outside for a smoke. Hannah talks about having Bugs’s back when her grandmother died, and now she has nothing in return. Lauren says she hopes to be half the chief stew Hannah is one day. Hannah says she’ll always have Lauren’s back.

Adam kisses Malia as fireworks literally go off. Now we’re in a Hallmark movie. She knows everyone will be talking, but doesn’t care. Oh, you will. The others head back to the boat. Malia and Adam pretend to be eating in the galley. Adam sneaks more kisses. Wes says she chose the d*ck. Yep. He tells Bobby they all got played. In his interview, he says he has a crush on Malia, but he feels for Wes, pointing out that Adam is the one who just jeopardized their tip.

Bugs tells Hannah she hopes Hannah sorted out what she needed to. Max tells Bobby that he deserves better. Everyone turns in.

We flash back to Captain Sandy calling out Adam. He says he’s definitely on her radar now. Wes thinks maybe he misread signals. He talks to Bugs about Hannah. She doesn’t think it’s right how Hannah is treating her, because she isn’t the one who said anything, even if she thinks it. Wes says he’s there for her.

The captain goes over the new preference sheets. Primary guest Jason has recently left his finance career, and is considered one of the most eligible bachelors in Dallas. Hannah thinks he’ll be d-bag central and they’ll all be high maintenance. They’ve requested a Cuban dinner, and a white party with a 7-course meal, each dish representing a different color. Why? Who knows. Captain Sandy says all eyes are on Adam, especially hers. Ha-ha!

Bugs asks Hannah if they’re good. In her interview, Bugs says she’s not good with unresolved feelings, and thinks they should hash it out and move forward. Hannah says that she didn’t like the situation with Adam, and Bugs says it wasn’t cool. She didn’t think it was right, and he was unprofessional. She wanted to leave it behind, but felt excluded at the crew dinner. Hannah says Adam has been going at her all season, and since Bugs and Adam seem to have a friendly relationship, it was easier for her to chat with Lauren. In her interview, Hannah calls girl code. Bugs says she supports Hannah, and has her back. Hannah hopes the next charter goes more smoothly.

The crew readies the yacht. Adam asks to talk to Hannah. He says he owes her an apology. She says more than anything, she was bothered by what he said to Bugs because it diminishes her rank. In his interview, it’s dawned on Adam that this is his job, and he needs to make amends. Hannah doesn’t really trust him, but tells him she’s good, and they hug it out.

The guests arrive. The girls are stunned by Jason’s beauty, but IMO he’s no Marc Singer. Hannah does the tour thing. She’s trying to figure out the romance situation, hoping none of the women are with Jason. The captain calls Malia to the bridge, and tells her she’s going to take the boat off the dock. In her interview, Malia says she’s always wanted to outrank her brother, who’s a military captain.

Hannah tells Adam the primary isn’t a d-bag. That will teach her to judge a guest by his headshot. Wes and Malia work together. Wes is tempted, but in his interview, says first time, shame on you, and you know the rest. Bobby is hoping he gets a chance to take the boat off the dock, and likes how the captain lets them be involved. Malia likes how Captain Sandy puts them in situations where they can fail. She’s nervous, but the captain guides her through. Success!

Geez, Jason is a nice guy, offering to help Hannah. Adam is relieved to be chopping onions, but Captain Sandy just wants him to stay focused on his job. In his interview, Max talks about the last stern tie being a fail, and hopes this one works out better. It goes well, and the captain says they keep improving. Hannah goes over the schedule with the guests. She’s excited for the Cuban theme party, since she was just there. I want to go!

One of the ladies offers Bobby a cocktail, but he can only wish. Wes goofs around with Malia. Why? Hannah welcomes a Cuban musician on board. The crew sets up the party in a cove. The stews discuss Jason. Hannah says they can’t go there with charter guests, but if anyone could tempt her, it would be him. The guests shove off for the party.

Pictures are taken while they still have light. Hannah gives everyone shots, and Jason says she’s a mind reader. At the yacht, Max talks to his girlfriend on the phone, and asks when she’s coming to see him. We see photos, and they’re a cute couple. Ooh, the cove is nice in candlelight. The deckhands carry the female guests to the return boat, and Jason jokes about Hannah carrying him. Adam prepares dinner, and hopes nothing gets sent back.

Max’s girlfriend is coming on Tuesday. He suggests a double date with Malia and… somebody. The female guests check out the galley, and they’re thrilled when Bobby walks through, letting him know that one of them is single. In his interview, he says cougars are flirting with him right and left, but he can’t get a flirt out of Malia. Dinner is served, and all goes well.

After dinner, Jason asks Hannah to join them for a drink, but she says she can’t. He tells her if she’s scared just say so. The guests want to look at the crew’s quarters and the crew mess (where the crew eats, not the mess in their quarters), although I’m not sure why, since it’s an imposition. Bobby says he’s scared of Tina, who must be the single one. He says that the cougar wants the cub, but not vice versa. The guests move on to the hot tub.

Hannah brings the guests drinks. Jason gets his phone wet, and she offers to put it in rice, but he believes it’s beyond saving. In her interview, she says he’s got a great body, and there’s nothing wrong with a 40-year-old having a 20-year old’s body, and the bank account of a 70-year-old. Or something like that. She chats with Jason on the deck while having a smoke, and he asks her questions about yachting. In her interview, Bugs thinks it’s unheard of and unacceptable for a chief stew to be flirting with a charter guest, and she’s dumbfounded. Maybe just dumb. It’s not like they were acting inappropriately.

I am so fascinated with Croatia. And so wish I could go on one of these charters. It looks heavenly – the scenery, the food, the everything. Although getting there is not half the fun. Love traveling; hate the process. The guests go ashore, and Adam starts preparing the 7-course meal. The deckhands play with helium, which never gets old. Captain Sandy goes over alternatives for the guests who don’t like seafood with Adam. This has to be embarrassing. It’s pretty bad when the captain feels the need to go over the menu with the chef. Lauren feels like she’s in the middle of Hannah and Bugs, who are both giving her orders.

Hanna goes over the schedule with Bugs. Hannah is going for a nap, and in her interview, Bugs thinks that’s unacceptable too, and tells us that she’d never do that before a guest party. Hmm… I’m seeing how this one could become a problem. Adam should have kept his mouth shut.

The dinner table décor is amazing – white balloons, crystal, pearls, other white stuff, appetizers in fancy spoons. The appetizer doesn’t even sound like something I’d like, since it involves fennel, but I’d eat ten of them. Jason is impressed with the details, and tells Hannah that they weren’t expecting anything so amazing. The different colored courses turn out to be fun. One course is seared tuna, with beets for the non-seafood people. Now we’re talking my language. In the galley, Hannah asks Bugs if they’re good, and Bugs says they are, but her face says something different. Jason is also impressed with the food. The scales are officially tipping in Adam’s favor.

Two of the guests don’t eat pork, and one whispers to Bugs that she’d like a chicken breast instead. Hannah says the guest doesn’t know how to write, and Adam is concerned about his redemption night. He makes the chicken, claiming he’s never saying no again. The same guest, who Hannah calls “Plastic Fantastic,” bitches about the salt in one of the dishes. Lauren tells Hannah that she’s getting frustrated, and feels like she has two chief stews. Hannah says it’s her fault for giving Bugs too much power. The guests compliment the chef, and Adam hopes this is a step forward. Hannah has a shot with the guests, which bugs Bugs.

The guests start to turn in. Hannah runs after Jason and…

Next time, Adam tells Hannah she’s not perfect, Bugs outs Hannah texting a guest, Max’s girlfriend arrives, Wes kisses Malia (shame me twice, shame on me), and it’s revealed that Adam hooked up with Malia before the show.

🏝 Well, what did I say? Apparently, the producers of Bachelor in Paradise have found no wrongdoing on the part of any contestant. Like that cop after the Tawana Brawley scandal, DeMario Jackson must be wondering where he goes to get his reputation back.

☮ Just a thought. Instead of attacking every fart Donald Trump blows, we should be going after the real enemy. Ourselves.

General Hospital

Yes, I know it’s going to rain. Accuweather does not need to talk about it for ten minutes.

Carly wants to talk to Michael about Sonny.

Griff visits Sonny. He asks if Sonny is planning on killing Ava.

Ava bangs on the side of her bed ringing for the nurse. Epiphany comes in. Ava asks how long she can last like this, either drugged out of her mind or in pain. She asks what kind of life that is.

Spencer questions Laura about moving in with Doc. She asks what he thinks. He says it depends on Doc’s intentions.

Jason asks Sam if she’s okay but she doesn’t think so. She says he almost got himself killed and asks wth he was thinking.

Olivia-F thanks someone on the phone for not being any help. Ned says he’d hate to be the person on the other end. She says all Diane does is talk, and then says she can’t take their case because of conflict of interest. She wants a lawyer who can keep Leo away from Julian. (Shouldn’t that be the other way around? It’s not like Leo is crawling over to Julian’s place.)

Julian visits Ava. Epiphany says he can have a few minutes, and then she has to change Ava’s bandages. Ava says the only thing worse than the pain is people talking about her like she’s a piece of furniture. Julian says she’s Ava Jerome and she can take a little hospital stay. He looks at the DNR, and asks her what’s up with that. She explains that she wants to die if her heart stops again. Unless he wants to put her out of her misery right now.

Griff says found Sonny looming over Ava’s bed, and I laugh because it’s a perfect description. He knows Sonny does business using an eye for an eye philosophy. He asks Sonny how that’s been working for him, reminding him of how he was before Morgan died. Sonny says spare him the lectures. He has no plans to kill Ava.

Carly tells Michael that she’s signing Sonny’s assets back over to him. They’re still getting a divorce, but want it to be as amicable as possible. Michael asks what changed.

Nelle talks on the phone to someone about an interview. She wonders who recommended her.

Jason tells Sam that he took some punches, but he’s fine. Sam says what if he wasn’t? In her head, Sam hears he’s not safe and the threat is still out there. Jason asks her what’s going on.

Spencer asks if Doc is serious or it’s just a casual fling. Doc says he’s in no place to speak for Spencer’s grandmother, but his feelings are honorable. Spencer wants that defined.

Sam tells Jason that they have two kids who could lose their father. Jason says they’re not going to lose him, but she says that’s a promise he can’t make. Truth! He says she’s right; all they can do is live their lives and hope for the best. He thinks everything that’s happened in the past several months has caught up to her. She says he’s risking his life, and it scares her. He promises that whatever is bothering her, they’ll fix it. They hug.

Julian tells Ava she’s taking the legal way out. She wonders what good can be done; she’s burned over half her body. He knows as well as she does that all she has to look forward to is a lifetime of pain. It’s the only reason Sonny let her live.

Griff tells Sonny that he won’t regret letting go of vengeance. Sonny says he’s not, as long as every time Ava takes a breath there’s pain. Griff isn’t cool about him taking pleasure in suffering, but Sonny says it’s God’s will, and the way he sees it, the universe is balancing he scales. Griff says he can’t pretend to understand the loss of a child, but their faith teaches them that no soul is beyond redemption. I get annoyed at Griff for not pointing out that God doesn’t take pleasure in anyone suffering.

Carly tells Michael that she and Sonny don’t want to cause each other more grief, and he’s glad she finally sees it that way. They hug, and Nelle almost walks out into the yard, but when she sees it’s Carly, goes back inside.

Doc tells Spencer that he makes a good point. The concept of honor is big. He says he loves Laura very much, and is in it for the long haul. Spencer asks if he’s going to marry her, and Laura tells him that’s enough. Doc says they’ve both been married before, so they’ll take their time, but if they do make that leap, it will be forever.

Olivia tells Ned about Julian wanting to see Leo, and Alexis defending him. She thinks if Sam hadn’t stepped in, Alexis would have offered to represent him. Ned asks if Olivia is ready to move forward, and she says she can’t afford not to. He wonders if a custody suit is the way to go.

Julian asks about Sonny being in Ava’s room. She says he wanted to watch her suffer. Julian doesn’t understand why she’d mess with Morgan’s meds in the first place, and get in Sonny’s crosshairs. She says she was protecting Kiki. She’d take it back if she could, but just wants it to be over. Julian says that’s what Sonny wants. He wants her to quit, and she shouldn’t let him win. She says easy for him to say. He goes home to his own bed and he can forget. She doesn’t have that luxury. He says that’s not what he means, but he wishes he could help. She says he doesn’t have to be there, but he says he’s not going anywhere.

Like the ridiculous jerk Sonny can be, he tells Griff that he respects their faith, but it seems like Griff doesn’t respect him. Griff says he has to give Ava the same respect as he does everyone else. Sonny says that Griff doesn’t know what it’s like to lose a child, even though we already established that, or to watch his son conquer his illness only to have it stolen from him by some heartless piece of garbage. He doesn’t know what it feels like for his son to die because of something stupid and pointless, and because someone messed with his mind. He tells Griff not to stand there and tell him he needs to forgive, because he doesn’t know if he ever will. Griff says it’s the only way to heal, and Sonny asks if Griff forgives Julian. When he sees the man who killed his father, does he see someone worthy of redemption? When Griff says nothing, Sonny says he didn’t think so. Griff says he’s praying that Sonny finds a relief from his grief. Sonny tells him that he shouldn’t bother with Ava, since she didn’t have soul to begin with. His phone rings, and it’s obviously surprising news.

Carly wonders what’s going on behind her, and Michael says it’s probably Danny goofing around. He’s glad she and Sonny stopped the war, and she says it’s best that they present a united front and make sure Ava is punished. Michael says they have Nelle’s statement, but Carly says it’s meaningless unless she testifies. Michael says she will. Carly asks if he was just in her hospital room out of concern, or does he still have feelings for her?

Monica takes the kids for the night, so Jason and Sam can chill, with or without Netflix. Sam says the lack of sleep hasn’t helped. She says that Alexis told her two kids is three times the work. He suggests they turn in early and catch up on lost time. She says she snapped at him earlier, and she’s sorry. He was protecting Jake and she overreacted, but it’s only because she loves him and doesn’t want to lose him. He promises she won’t. They kiss. He tells her that he loves her, and they get busy.

Spencer says it doesn’t necessarily mean that Laura loves Doc. She tells him it’s not exactly his business. He says she knows he’s not happy living at Lulu and Dante’s house, but doesn’t want her getting into a romantic relationship to put a roof over his head. She assures him that she loves Doc very much, and that’s all this is. She’ll make the final decision, although he gets to weigh in on living arrangements.

Michael tells Carly that they all know what Nelle did was wrong, but she’s trying to turn her life around and deserves credit for that. Carly says she set out to sabotage the family and was successful. If Michael lets her in, she’ll do the same to him. Carly gets a call from Sonny, who says he has to see her immediately.

When Carly is gone, Nelle comes out. Michael asks how much she heard. She says enough.

Olivia tells Ned that she doesn’t want to get in a battle, but doesn’t think she has any choice. Julian won’t listen to reason. Ned says they have to be as rational as possible right now. She has full custody and visitation is at her discretion. If she goes to court, Julian could end up with joint custody. Ned asks her to wait until after Julian goes to trial. If he’s found guilty, he could be stripped of visitation. Olivia says, what if he’s found not guilty, but Ned says they’ll deal with it then. He says as far as being safe, the Quartermaine mansion is full of security, and they can even dig a moat if she wants. Olivia says they’re not moving in until they’re officially married. Ned suggests it happen soon. He doesn’t want to spend any more time without her.

Julian tells Ava that it seems hopeless, but they’ve gotten out of worse jams. They’ll get through it together. Epiphany comes back to change the bandages. Julian tells Ava to hang tough.

Griff thinks about what Sonny said, and promptly runs into Julian.

Sam hears voices saying that she has to protect her family. She gets out of bed, leaving Jason sleep.

Epiphany tells Ava that there’s no sign of infection, which is good. Ava asks her to wait; she wants to see what she looks like.

Julian tells Griff that he’ll leave. Griff says he’s off-duty, and just came by to see how Ava was doing.

Sonny tells Carly that there’s a problem with the casino’s liquor license, and paperwork has to be signed and notarized on the property. The problem is, she’s the owner.

Michael tells Nelle that she has no future as a thief or spy, since Carly nearly saw her. Nelle says Carly makes her nervous, and he says there’s no cure for that except time. She tells him Carly will never forgive her, and he says tolerance might be achievable. Nelle says she prefers avoidance. He tells her Carly is there a lot, and Nelle says she’ll know for next time. She tells him a recruiter called her and she wonders what he knows about that, since the job is with a subsidiary of ELQ. He says he might have mentioned her name, but she got the interview on her own merit, just like she will the job. She tells him that she turned it down, since she doesn’t want repercussions if Carly finds out. Michael says Carly has nothing to do with ELQ, and has no control over who works there, but Nelle says she doesn’t want to cause any trouble. Michael says he respects Carly, but doesn’t live to please her, and eventually she’ll find out they’re seeing each other. Nelle is like, we are?

Sam gets a knife and stands over Jason.

Doc asks Spencer if he’s cool living at Doc’s place, and Spencer says it sounds good. Doc says he’ll have to move his gaming systems out of the spare room, but Spencer tells him not to get hasty. The three of them leave for Spencer to check out his new digs.

Ned and Olivia talk about setting a date. She thanks him for talking her out of going after Julian. She wants Leo to have Ned’s name. It’s symbolic, but she wants him to feel like he’s part of the family, and Ned is Leo’s father. Ned says he grew up with his father’s name, and symbols don’t make a family. Love does, and she and Leo are his family.

Julian tells Griff that he knows he’s wronged a lot of people, including Griff’s father. He doesn’t know if it’s possible to atone for that, but he’ll try. Griff says okay. He tells Julian that he prayed with Ava, and Julian asks him to keep doing it; she needs all the prayers she can get.

Epiphany tells Ava that she needs to focus on healing. Ava wants to see the damage for herself, but Epiphany says it’s too soon; they haven’t even started treatment yet. Ava asks if she’ll look like she used to after surgery. When Epiphany doesn’t say anything, Ava says that she needs to know what she’s dealing with. Epiphany says it’s her decision, and takes out a mirror. She gives it to Ava, who takes it with her perfectly manicured hand. Ava cries, no, no, no, and Julian hears her.

Nelle wonders if she missed the part where she and Michael agreed to see each other. She thought they were just talking. Michael says any day of his life is better with her in it, and sooner or later they should figure out how they feel. She says she can’t have him taking care of her; she has to take care of herself. He calls evasion, and she says it’s best she can do.

Carly wonders when she became owner of casino. She doesn’t remember seeing it on the list. Sonny tells her that it was filed separately, and she says he hid it from her, but now he needs her to clear up the liquor tariffs. He says no liquor, no business, and she says she’ll do it. He tells her that he’ll get the jet fueled and then they can leave; he’s coming too. She says it’s just business, and they both know he’s no Boy Scout.

Sam gets back in bed with the knife. She puts it under her pillow.

Tomorrow, Nina asks what’s going on with Nathan and Amy,  Nelle confronts Bobbie, and Jason asks Sam why she’s holding a knife.

Southern Charm

Craig is making a birthday present for Cameran – baby clothes. I’m not so sure that’s going to thrill her. This is supposed to be her last hurrah before getting pregnant.

Shep visits Chelsea. He says Cameran helped him realize he has integrity and morals, and he’d lost sight of that. He wants to apologize in person about trying to kiss her. He says he was like a fish trying to eat a bright, shiny lure. He says he knows she’s not one of those girls (whatever that means), but she says that’s how he made her feel. He says he withdraws when he really likes someone, because he doesn’t want to mess up the friendship. Chelsea says if she’d known, they might have explored that, but she didn’t think he gave a flying. He says he has a problem with intimacy, but he’s working on it. She says Austen is having a hard time too, and Shep says he’d be happy to talk to him. Chelsea is in sweats and eating peanut butter off of a spoon, and Shep tells her she looks like a cat lady.

Kathryn visits Cameran. She asks if Cameran is excited about her birthday. Cameran says she is, but she feels like it’s her last hurrah. Well, yeah, that’s what we’ve all been calling it. She tells Kathryn that she’s trying to get over her fear and anxiety about motherhood. Kathryn explains that it’s scary, but then you hold the creation made between you, the father, and God, and it’s the greatest happiness. She says Cameran and her husband will have beautiful babies, and Cameran says that Jason looked like an albino baby possum as an infant. In her interview, Cameran is surprised that she and Kathryn are talking like this about motherhood. Cameran tells her about Landon thinking Kathryn owes her an apology, but Kathryn thinks it’s the other way around. Cameran asks what started the whole thing, and Kathryn tells her about Thomas taking Landon on a Valentine’s Day trip they’d planned when they’d been broken up for only two days. Before Saint was conceived. She says they claimed they slept in separate bedrooms, but Cameran doesn’t even buy that. She says it changes her opinion of Landon, since that’s something you just don’t do. Thank you. I totally agree with Kathryn that Landon is not a girl’s girl.

Craig says that he and Naomie are on eggshells since they went to therapy. She asks if he’s bringing his gift on the trip. He says he is, and asks if she’s coming. She says part of her doesn’t want to go, and he says they’re in a bad place, and wishes she would, since they seem to get along better when they’re not at home. They argue about who isn’t nice. He says she treats him like a loser, and she says he’s going through an in-between phase, and maybe her expectations are too high. He doesn’t think he should have to jump through hoops to make her happy all the time, but she begs to differ. He tells her that he’s human, and can’t live on thin ice. She says if she feels like he’s not trying, they won’t be together when they get back. He says he has a lot to think about. He doesn’t want to be with someone who would even say something like that.

Patricia has Michael summon Whitney. She tells Whitney to take his glasses off, because it makes her feel old. Michael brings champagne. Whitney tells Patricia about Cameran’s party, but Patricia can’t see any upside, and thinks it’s a disaster waiting to happen. She tells him they’re celebrating. She shows him a box, and says it’s part of a collection that he’ll inherit one day, and is worth twice as much as she paid. He opens the box, and it’s a mantel clock – a maharajah on a gold elephant with a clock in it. All three of them try to put the fan piece in the driver’s hand, but only Michael is successful. I think it’s a pretty cool dust catcher, but I don’t know how psyched Whitney is about inheriting it.

Landon arrives at Thomas’s place, where he’s trying to put a table together. In her interview, she says it’s a roller coaster with him, but she’s still old-fashioned when it comes to dating and they need to take it slowly. She isn’t sure about Cameran’s birthday. She thinks Kathryn should apologize, but doesn’t want to punish herself by not going. Thomas says that Kathryn is a child compared to Landon, and to take the advice he gave himself – regardless of what happens, do nothing. He thinks she’s being absurd, which is one of the rare times I agree with him, but probably not for the same reason.

Austen talks to Chelsea about visiting his parents. She wonders if his mother will make them sleep in separate rooms. In the car, they discuss Shep, and Cameran says he kept making it seem like he wasn’t in the wrong by grabbing her and taking her outside to try to kiss her. Chelsea says it’s gotten a little out of proportion, but Austen claims that he’s going by what she said. She rephrases it, but it still sounds like Shep was aggressive. He says this wasn’t what she told him, adding that she clearly talked to Shep today. Chelsea says she just ran into him, and thinks it’s out-of-control when she’s just been honest. Really? How honest is it to say she just “ran into” Shep when he came to her house?

By the time they get to Austen’s parent’s house, he’s upset. In his interview, he says she might be okay with Shep, but he isn’t, and he wonders why it got brought up in the first place. Great start to the weekend.  Austen introduces his parents, Wendy and Tom, and his Aunt Barbara. They do the usual small talk. Austen decides to focus on having a good evening. Chelsea asks what Austen was like as a teenager. Wendy says he was a 10 on a 1-10 scale of being a handful. Tom tells a story about him tickling people with palms on Palm Sunday. Austen thinks Chelsea is winning them over. Austen tells them how they’re all going to Key West for Cameran’s birthday.

It’s 6 am, and several of the group meets at the airport. Craig isn’t dealing with his problems right now, and just wants to have fun. They reach Key West by noon, and are greeted with mimosas at the hotel. Whitney tries to upgrade his room. In her interview, Cameran says he’s one of the most entitled people she knows, which is probably saying a lot. In his interview, Austen isn’t thrilled that he and Chelsea aren’t on the best of terms right now and won’t be sharing a room

In the airport limo, Kathryn tells Danni and Naomie that Landon thinks she deserves an apology. At the pool, Thomas talks about people at his house doing mannequin poses, and we all just look at him like, that’s so last year. Jennifer says she thinks Kathryn likes to have problems with people, and no one should take it personally. Landon says that Kathryn is spreading lies about her, and Cameran talks about their conversation. Landon says Kathryn is jumping to conclusions about the trip with Thomas, and it was a business dinner, not a couple’s weekend. Oh come on. Chelsea says if she’d been in that position – Landon interrupts, saying she and Kathryn weren’t friends anyway – it would hurt her feelings. Landon tells Chelsea that there’s no such thing as girl code, Kathryn just wants to be mad, and to grow up. She claims Chelsea is taking Kathryn’s side, and Chelsea says that’s not it. Cameran thinks Kathryn is like a wounded bird, and should be treated as such. Wow. She really must be in mother mode. In her interview, Jennifer thinks sooner or later, the real Kathryn will come back. Landon says she doesn’t think Kathryn is really dedicated to getting her children back, and hasn’t hit rock bottom yet, and in her interview, calls Kathryn a master manipulator. She suggests they change the subject because it’s “killing the vibe.” Are these old words making a comeback or are some people just stuck in another era from before they were born? Oh wait, in Landon’s case, she might have picked it up from Thomas.

Commercial break. Transformers: The Last Knight looks really good. I haven’t seen one of those movies yet though.

Cameran thanks everyone for coming, and welcomes them to her 33rd birthday. They toast. Landon acts drunk and stupid already, and Shep says she’s never going to make it. Landon wants Austen to stay with her and they can be “beach people.” Excuse me? I live by the beach, and know beach people. You, Landon, are no beach people. She’s glad he’s around because they needed new blood. Landon worries that she’s getting wrinkles as we speak, and asks Shep if he sees them forming. He’s just like, please. She gets in a hammock with Austen, and Chelsea wonders if she should worry. Cameran says that Landon knows they’re “hanging out” (which has become some random relationship term like hooking up), but Chelsea says she doesn’t think Landon cares about girlfriends. Agreed. Austen and Shep go inside, and Landon whines that her co-dependency is at an all-time high. Landon is a truly unattractive person, and it has nothing to do with her physical looks.

Shep brings Austen a beer, and says he has a surprise. He tells Austen he apologized to Chelsea. Austen says she told him, and he didn’t mean to make such a big deal. He says what’s important is how they left things, and Shep said he didn’t need his friendship. He’d thought they were like brothers. Shep says he considers him a very good friend, and was just angry, but it’s no excuse. It was a uniquely male, dumb, drunk move. To bury the hatchet, he’s brought two shirts. They’re polo shirts with fish on the back, one white one black. Austen takes the white one, and Shep laughs about being the bad guy. I guess these shirts have some kind of significance, but I don’t know what it is.

Cameran takes roll call. Everyone is getting ready to go out. Danni asks Kathryn how she feels about everyone being there, and Kathryn says it’s about Cameran, not her. Everyone starts to gather at the beach, and Elizabeth and JD (bleh) arrive. Craig isn’t having Naomie’s attitude, which is pretty poor. Cameran is excited about some guy named Todd showing up. They take a shuttle bus to a restaurant.

Everyone sits at the table. Landon insists there isn’t a seat, and has to squish into the corner with Todd. Cameran thinks she’s ticked off a few people, and doesn’t dare sit next to Thomas. Kathryn thinks she might have a drink, since she’s on vacation, and Cameran and I make the same face when she orders a margarita. Craig orders a double shot in the beer and I like it. JD (bleh) makes a toast. Thomas makes inappropriate comments on how Cameran should get pregnant. Whitney asks what the odds are of Thomas and Kathryn getting back together, and Kathryn says zilch.

Kathryn tells Whitney that she’s sorry for what happened, and she, Whitney and Shep have a toast. In her interview, Whitney thinks Kathryn seems clear-headed, and motivated to get back on track. He’s been doing meditation lately, and thinks she could be cordial with Landon too. He plops Landon next to Kathryn at the table.

Whitney introduces them. Is he drunk? Landon says the past is the past and let’s just move on. Kathryn says she feels the same way. Danni says it seems like they want to be cordial, and let it go. Craig is like, do it right, and gets up. He says the only way to fix it is to air their grievances. He thinks it will always be simmering if they don’t do this. Naomie tells him to stay out of it, and for once, I agree, but he decides to be mediator. He tries to play therapist, and Kathryn talks about Landon moving in on Thomas when they’d been apart for only two days. Danni tells Craig that he’s about to lose some friends. Craig says they’re a bunch of children, and Naomie says he’s making her nervous, and he thinks they should break up tonight if she can’t stop being critical. Surprisingly, Landon apologizes, and says that she thinks sometimes Thomas uses her as a weapon against Kathryn. The stunned look on Thomas’s face is the best. In his interview Thomas says it was a betrayal, and wonders what her intent is. Landon says wants to wish the best for Kathryn, but doesn’t know how. They hug it out, but in her interview, Kathryn thinks it was fake. Landon tried to trump her, went after all of the guys, and Cameran knows the real Landon is now.

Cameran gets up, and wants a show of hands as to who wants to get sh*tfaced at a bar. Whitney suggests Craig needs to get laid, but Craig is tired of Naomie correcting him like she’s his mom.

Landon tells Thomas she doesn’t want any more negative energy in her life, and wants to move on. They live in a small town, and she needs to have some kind of relationship with Kathryn separate from the one she has with Thomas. She says they have no problem with each other, but it’s other people who are creating the drama. In his interview, Thomas says her apology is self-serving, and she wants to advance some agenda she has. I have to hand it to Thomas for having a clue.

The next morning everyone meets for breakfast, and we get flashbacks of a drag queen strip club as each of them arrives. Shep wonders what he did, and Thomas tells him let a drag queen lick his stomach. Roll the tape. Yep, he did. Thomas is confused by Landon’s flip flop, and says it’s a red flag.

Kathryn rolls in. She has blisters from her high heels. Thomas says Kelsie is going to The Nutcracker, and Kathryn isn’t happy about the person taking her, saying it should be in the court papers that they’re a no. She tells him that he should know better, and needs to be a good dad. She gets up, and he makes a snarky comment about her having changed. She says she has changed; she’s going back to her room to nurse her hangover. Thomas says the 20-year-old babysitter is more mature, and Landon tells him to get off of Kathryn’s back. In his interview, he says he doesn’t need to waste his time on Landon, and the audacity stuns him. <snort>

Next time, Jennifer passes out, Kathryn doesn’t know if Landon is genuine, Craig doesn’t think he and Naomie are healthy together, and another confrontational party happens. I love those.

🏝 Weighing in on the Bachelor in Paradise debacle. I stopped watching The Bachelor after the first couple of seasons, when I could no longer watch women embarrassing themselves. I checked out The Bachelorette, but thought it wasn’t much better. Copycat shows like Average Joe got passing glances, but never even got second seasons. Finally, fifteen minutes into a show called The Littlest Groom – similar to The Bachelor, but featuring a little person – I was done with this genre. It was fifteen minutes of my life I will never get back, or unsee, as well as my most embarrassing reality TV watching moment. When it took no time at all for the contestants to drunkenly congregate in the hot tub, I felt like some weird voyeur fetishist. My shunning of these pseudo road-to-matrimony shows did not include Rock of Love or any number of Flava Flav’s efforts. Or as we like to call him in my house, Big Ass Clock Man. That’s embarrassment on purpose, and totally different. While I have no problem with Pumpkin spitting in New York’s face and getting a hair pulling for it, I can’t bear to watch a group of people who could do so much better, lower themselves for so-called love.

That being said, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. Contestants allegedly going too far in a drunken haze. While I don’t think it’s necessarily a set-up, like I did with the outing of Zeke Smith on Survivor, something doesn’t smell right, and this isn’t even Denmark. In case you’ve been living under a rock, supposedly producers stopped production when two contestants (Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson) went too far in the pool while they were seventeen sheets to the wind. Nothing wrong with the producers doing that. As a matter-of-fact, it sounds very responsible of them, but what happened next is up for debate. Corinne now claims that she remembers very little, but was obviously violated because she’s been told she was. While I’m the first person to stand up for a woman in these circumstances, this isn’t typical of this kind of situation, and there are a few extras to consider; the first being, if this dude was committing a sexual assault, why didn’t the producers step in earlier? Even MTV knew better than to let a cast member drive drunk on The Real World: Hawaii. On the other hand, these are two supposed adults who had both been drinking to the max. Why is he the only bad guy? What if he was blackout drunk too? I can’t help but wonder if Corinne (who has a reputation of being an alcoholic idiot – I do read some recaps) is taking this sad ball of fame and running with it. She now claims she was “victimized,” when no one seems to even know what really went on. DeMario has since lost his job. If nothing else, it’s another case of all kinds of conclusions being jumped to before all of the facts are known.

🛎 I would also be remiss, having watched ABC soaps since I was at my Aunt Mary’s knee, not to mention a One Life to Live milestone anniversary from yesterday. On June 18, 1992, they introduced daytime TV’s first gay character. Billy Douglas (Ryan Phillipe). While OLTL is sadly gone from us, Billy paved the way for Brad, Lucas, Parker, et al.

General Hospital

Laura says she feels a little in the way. Lulu’s family is now four, and Charlotte needs her own room. Lulu says it’s fine. Spencer blows in, and says the living arrangements are unacceptable, and Charlotte is the problem.

Jake tells Elizabeth she looks scared, like at the Nurses Ball. He wonders if it’s him, but she says everything is fine. He says that she and his father make everything fine for him, and they hug. Hey, where is Franco these days?

Hayden runs to the examining room, unlocks it, and runs to the bathroom past Elizabeth and Jake.

Doc sees Sam at the MetroCourt. Jason is late and it’s bothering her. She has a weird feeling.

A cop comes to the examining room door, but Elizabeth tells him that it’s just her sister. He says to make sure she locks the door. Hayden comes back out and says hi.

Up On the rooftop reindeer’s paws. Costa tells Jason it’s not his job to ask questions, and it was never Jason’s either. They can kill each other or walk away. He jumps down to the balcony, and slams Jason up against the doors, but Jason quickly gets the better of him. Jason says Helena is dead, so who is Costa working for?

Amy says Nathan eavesdropped, and it’s none of his business. He wants to help, and says he didn’t know about Chet before; Dillon filled him in. She says her brother is a private guy, but Nathan says that’s not the whole story. He says she can talk to him, but she says Chet wouldn’t want her to.

Dante comes in with the kids, and Laura asks if something happened. Lulu asks what happened that Rocco is so dirty, and he says checking under rocks for worms. Laura asks Spencer what’s with the attitude, and he says he’s questioning the company they keep. Charlotte asks if he always talks like that. Spencer says that she and her father stole his life. Laura says that’s enough, and he says his father didn’t die that long ago. Has she forgotten?

Elizabeth gives Jake her phone to play a game, and asks Hayden if she’s okay. Hayden talks about how she’s been feeling sick, and Elizabeth tells her it must be the flu, jokingly adding, or she’s pregnant. Hayden says, surprise!

Sam feels like it’s something dire, which isn’t her M.O. Doc asks about the baby, and congratulates her. He asks if she thinks her anxiety has to do with Jake. She says it doesn’t help, but she’s thinking about that time in Jason’s life, two years unaccounted for.

Costa tells Jason that it was his job. Jason says he failed his job. He wants to know why Costa endangered his son. Costa grabs ahold of him, and holds him over the edge of the balcony.

Amy says that Chet is amazing, and was the envy of everyone in high school. She says he was nice, changing it to is nice, wondering why she keeps using past tense. She talks about how he championed losers. She was thrilled when he got a scholarship, but knew she’d miss him. Most big brothers would have teased or ignored her, but he gave her advice. He came up with the Man Landers name when he wrote to her from college; he always knew what to do. She says it’s different since he came home from Afghanistan. Nathan tells her that he read about Chet getting injured in combat. Amy says he’s in a group home, because their mother couldn’t take care of him anymore.

Laura sits Spencer down. She says his father was her son and she loved him. Charlotte isn’t to blame for what Valentin did, like he isn’t to blame for what Helena did. He tells her that’s a low blow. She says he’s upset and angry, but doesn’t have the right to take it out on Charlotte. She asks if they’re on the same page, and he says yes. She sends him to do a jigsaw puzzle with the other kids. When his piece doesn’t fit, he messes up the entire puzzle. I feel his pain. I often want to get a hammer and make the piece fit.

Hayden tells Elizabeth that she just found out. Elizabeth asks if it’s Finn’s, and Hayden says of course. Elizabeth asks how she’s feeling emotionally, and she says it’s been rocky, but she’s getting there. She asks why Elizabeth is hiding, and Elizabeth says Helena. Hayden tells her that answer is good enough. She asks how Elizabeth dealt with what happened to Jake. Elizabeth says you always want to protect your children. It’s not always possible, but if she didn’t keep going, she’d be missing out on the greatest experience of her life.

Sam tells Doc that in some ways Jason is the same, but in others, completely different. She wonders if he’s hiding from himself. Doc says he treated Jason way back when, after his accident, and he’s the single most resistant patient he ever had. Self-determination was the most important thing to him. Sam says Helena took that from him; he wasn’t in control. Doc says that went against everything he stands for. Needing to check his messages, Doc steps away from the table. There’s something from the hospital telling him that all non-emergency situations have been canceled for the rest of the afternoon. When he looks back at the table, Sam is gone.

Jason asks why Costa didn’t disappear. Costa says he had no choice, just like Jason didn’t when he was working for her. He and Jason struggle back and forth.

Nathan asks how Amy got material for the blog. She says she read an awful advice column, and looked at a comments section. She gave her own advice, or what she thought Chet’s two cents would be, and got a ton of responses. Nathan says she was channeling Chet, and she says she’s gotten good at giving advice too. It started off as fun, but then her mother died. There isn’t enough money for Chet to stay where he is. Nathan asks about her father, but Amy doesn’t quite reply to his question, saying that’s why she broke the sick-out; she needed to work to keep Chet afloat. She realized the blog could be her answer, but by then everyone wanted to know who Man Landers was and what he looked like. Nathan says, the rest is history.

Costa says it’s not over for him, like it’s not over for Jason. Cops storm through the doors, followed by Sam, and Jason releases Costa. One of the cops says they’re both going downtown. Sam tells them that the other guy threatened Jason, and asks if they don’t recognize Jason as the one who disarmed the bomb. Jason says Costa tried to kill his son and his baby mama. The cop tells him that he’ll have to make a statement, and Sam says she’ll make sure that happens. Jason tells her that Costa is still working for Helena. She says Helena is gone and still taking from people. She asks if he’s okay.

Hayden doesn’t know if she’ll be a good mother. Elizabeth says no one does, and nothing prepares you, but concerns are good sign. Hayden asks what about her day with the boys, and Elizabeth tells her that coffee and sugar are not a good idea. Hayden says she’s learned her lesson with that. Elizabeth asks if she wants the baby, and when Hayden says she does, Elizabeth says that’s all that matters. Jake comes back, and says he hopes Hayden is feeling better. There’s a knock at the door, and a cop tells then that the incident is over and it’s all clear. Jake asks what incident?

Dante tells Spencer that they have to treat each other with kindness and respect. If he can’t manage that, he needs to sit by himself until he can. Laura tells him don’t look at her; clean up the puzzle that he ruined. She apologizes to Lulu, but Lulu says they’ve all been there. Doc drops by, and asks Laura if she has the afternoon free. She says she does, and Spencer says he does too. Doc says it’s a plan. I like Doc and Laura together, and he’s probably one of the few who would have the patience for Spencer.

Jason sees Jake and Elizabeth, and asks if they’re okay. Elizabeth says what about him, and he says she can’t hurt them anymore. Oh yeah? How does he know? Costa just came out of nowhere. Maybe there are fifty other Costas. Not to mention that’s awfully optimistic for Jason.

Amy says with Nathan’s face on the blog, it exploded. She thought she could generate revenue, but he found out. She says it was wrong of her to steal his picture. She took it down, but that doesn’t help with the publishing deal. They wanted to meet him, but it’s her problem, not his. She asks him to keep everything in confidence. She drops her folders all over the place, and Nathan helps her pick them up. He sees the medical bills.

At the park, Spencer asks to get a hot pretzel. Laura says only if he promises to apologize to Charlotte. He does, and goes off, while Laura and Doc sit on a bench. Laura feels like she’s just run a marathon, and Doc says parenthood is a marathon that never ends. She tells him that Spencer was spoiled to begin with, then after the tragedy, he was indulged even more, but she has to reign him in. She says he’s angry about Valentin, and has the right to be, but it’s coming out now, and he’s focusing on Charlotte. Doc says he can see how that would be tense in tight quarters. Laura thinks she should leave now, so Lulu can settle in with her new family. Doc asks if Spencer isn’t going back to school, and she says that’s up for debate, but she should still find her own place. Doc tells her he knows just the place – his place.

Charlotte pouts, and Lulu suggests a snack break. Charlotte says she isn’t hungry. Lulu sends Rocco to the kitchen to find out what they have that might be tempting. She asks Charlotte if Spencer upset her. Lulu says he’s not really mad at her, and Charlotte says she knows that. She says she likes staying there, and she’s having fun, but she misses her papa and Nina. She asks if Lulu and Dante are mad.

Hayden takes Jake to the vending machine, and Elizabeth asks Jason how do they know Costa isn’t answering to someone else? Jason says he said he wasn’t. Well, I guess that settles it then. Sam moves away to sit on the steps, and Jason says he can’t be 100% certain, but he doesn’t think so. Costa was just carrying out orders. Jason thinks they can stop worrying. Sam starts getting buggy on the stairs.

Amy asks Nathan for her paperwork back. He says some of the bills are from years ago, and Amy says they keep piling up. He asks how she’s going to pay for all this, and she says she’ll figure it out. She begs him not to tell anyone, and he promises not to. She starts to jet, and he asks her to wait.

Laura tells Doc that he doesn’t have to, but he says he wants to. She doesn’t want him to feel like he needs to rescue her, and he tells her that he must be doing something wrong. He loves her. Waking up next to her and having her next to him at the end of the day, what could be better? She says it sounds wonderful, but she wants to be realistic. What if he hates something about her? He doesn’t think he’ll have any problems. She asks if he’s scared, and he says no. His feelings are real and aren’t going to change. And if that’s not enough, he can dig out the Santa suit. He says, let’s do this.

Dante tells Charlotte that they’re not mad. Lulu talks about all the people who love her, and says the more love you have to give, the more is given back. Charlotte says it’s like a star, even if you can’t see it in the daytime, it’s there. Dante says he knows that everything is strange, but they’re here for her. Lulu says they’re her family, and it’s forever. They hug, and Rocco comes back with snacks, joining in the hug.

At the vending machine, Hayden tells Jake to choose wisely, and explains buyer’s remorse. He picks something, and she says she likes a man who knows what he wants. The candy gets stuck, but Hayden bangs on the machine and it falls. Jake is impressed.

Sam worries on the stairwell. Elizabeth tells Jason that it will be new, not waiting for the other shoe to drop. She says that Jake is lucky to have so many people who love him, but Jason says they’re the lucky ones. When Sam looks at Jason, she sees blood running down his face.

Amy thanks Nathan for listening. He asks what Man Landers wears in public. He’ll need to know for meeting the publishers. Amy says she didn’t tells him for that reason, and he says that friends help each other. She hugs him.

The puzzle is done, and Rocco gives the last piece to Charlotte to put in. Lulu says their first family puzzle is complete. The kids go to pick out another one, and Dante and Lulu kiss.

Laura tells Doc that it won’t be just them; she has Spencer. She hopes that Doc knows she loves him. She says he’s been the most amazing gift, and she doesn’t want to mess it up. He says they’re a package deal, and he’s okay with that. As long as she’s with him, he’s happy. Laura agrees to move in, and they hug. Spencer comes back, and asks what about him?

Elizabeth decides to check on Jake. Jake tells Hayden that she’s pretty cool, and she says he is too. Elizabeth watches Jake hug Hayden.

Sam is crying, and staring at Jason, and he asks her what’s wrong? He asks if she’s okay, and still seeing bloody Jason, she says that she doesn’t think so. Thank goodness. I nearly went into diabetic shock with all the hugs and happiness today.

On Monday, Spencer asks what Doc’s intentions are, Nelle wonders who would be out to hurt her, and Griff asks Sonny if he’s planning on killing Ava.

🎭 I’m watching Bill Cosby: An American Scandal, and the whole thing is just depressing and sad. I grew up with Bill Cosby. He was extraordinarily funny. My sister taught me his stand-up routines when I was five or six years old, and I would repeat them to my fellow kindergartners. I guess you could say I was somewhat precocious. I also remember I Spy being a TV staple, although I was too young at the time to understand what a landmark show it was. Then there were his later TV efforts, and even though I’m not a sitcom person, I watched dutifully, and found it not painful, and often amusing. It’s almost like finding out an elderly family member committed heinous crimes. I realize he hasn’t technically been found guilty, but… Like I said, depressing and sad.

😱 I also took a look at 90 Day Fiancé – Danielle &Mohamad: Our Continuing Journey. The only thing I can say is, What. Is. This?!

😵 I had a zombie senior moment this evening, thinking I had missed Z-Nation. When is that coming back? Is it with Franco?

General Hospital

Olivia-F flips through a bridal magazine. Julian approaches, saying he doesn’t suppose he’s getting an invite. Olivia asks how he got out of jail, and he tells her that he’s out on bail. She asks about Ava. He says she’s fighting and winning, but her life isn’t going to be the same. Olivia says she’s cheated death before and it must run in the family. Julian says he wants to see his son.

On the phone, Amy says they’ll have a visit later, and she’ll come up with a new plan to keep them afloat. When she hangs up, Nathan asks if there’s something he can help with.

Griff sees Sam at the hospital. He asks if she feels sick, and she tells him that she’s tired, stressed and can’t sleep.

Jason tells Spinelli that Costa works for Helena. He asks what if he’s still in Port Charles?

Costa eavesdrops on Elizabeth and Jake. She says it’s late, so they have to skip Lila’s Kids camp. She asks if something bothering him, and he says the magic set he got for his birthday.

Amy says now Nathan wants to help her, after snooping on her phone call. She says she already asked for help. He says the advice column is something he can’t do being a cop. Dillon comes along, asking about the reunion. Amy says who cares about high school? Some people’s live went downhill after graduation, and she can’t do this right now. She stomps off, and Dillon is like, what’s that about? Nathan doesn’t know, but says something is definitely up.

Olivia tells Julian that Leo is used to him not being around, and it’s just going to confuse him. She talks about Leo’s second birthday and how great it was. Julian wishes he could have been there. She says, but he wasn’t, and to remember what she said – the best thing for Leo is to let Ned adopt him. Julian says he’s Leo’s father, and she says be a good one then. Do the selfless thing and stay out of his life.

Griff asks Sam some questions. She says she’s achy like with the flu, but she had a shot. He says there are other viruses out there. He checks her temperature, and says it’s fine. He asks if there are any other symptoms. She thinks about how she envisioned Elizabeth having a gun, and says there is something else.

Spinelli asks if Jason thinks Costa is still there. He returned the rental car, and there’s no record of another lease. He says they got lucky because of the license plate, and Jason says has to be another way. Spinelli says there is.

Jake asks where the magic kit is, and Elizabeth asks why. He says doesn’t want to be a magician anymore. It turned into something weird and scary, and he doesn’t want it back. Elizabeth tells him that he doesn’t have to think about it again. Jake asks if he can get something from the vending machine, and she gives him change. Costa is at the machine, pretending to be a normal person.

Dillon wonders what’s going on between Nathan and Amy, and asks how Maxie is. Nathan says determined, like her mom, then apologizes, and asks about Ava. Dillon says Kiki hasn’t left the burn unit at all. He’s getting some food for her, hoping she’ll eat. He’s glad Maxie is getting quality time with Georgie, and asks if she’s coming home soon. Nathan says the person she was filling in for left, and she feels obligated to stay until a replacement is found. They both like their jobs, so for the time being, they’re bi-coastal. Dillon questions what was wrong with Amy, and Nathan says he tried to help, but it backfired. He tells Dillon about the Nurses Ball, and how they became friends. Dillon says that they went to high school together. Nathan tells him that something is going on.

Costa eyeballs Elizabeth while Jake is at the machine. Jake looks at him.

Spinelli looks up the credit card number, calling it a trail of breadcrumbs. He says they’re going to find this guy.

Sam tells Griff that she’s on edge, and it’s not like her. Griff says illness brings anxiety. She asks if there’s a magic pill for that, and if she’s overreacting. Griff suspects mono, and wants to give her a blood test, but she says she thinks she’s wasting his time, when she’s just stressed with the kids. He says he thinks he might know what’s wrong with her.

Olivia tells Julian that what Leo needs, she and Ned can give him. Julian says that Leo is the only child he has who doesn’t hate him, and Olivia says that’s because he doesn’t know Julian is the monster under the bed yet. Julian says she has no cause to be righteous, and they agreed to raise him together. She says that was after he promised to be out of the mob – a lie like everything else. She wants to know when they can look forward to him being out of their lives, and he says he might be able to walk and get his life back. She says that’s impossible. He tells her that he’s free now, and wants to see his son. Olivia says that Leo is hers and Ned’s son; he’s never even sent a birthday card. He has no rights anymore. Popping into the conversation, Alexis say he has every legal right to see his son.

Griff tells Sam that it could be PTSD, but Sam says that’s not her. He wants to do full check-up. She practically runs out the door, but he asks her to promise to make appointment with Dr. Lee. She says she will. Griff wants to come with her, but she says she won’t make break for it. He tells her that he’ll back off.

Jake stares at Costa with narrowed eyes. Costa jets before Elizabeth gets near him. The machine doesn’t have what Jake wants, and she says they’ll find another one. They get in the elevator as Costa watches.

Jason says it’s taking too long, and Spinelli asks if he doubts The Jackal. He tells Jason that Costa retuned to Greece after the delivery, but he’s back. He charged a hotel room, and bought clothing at a medical supply place – a set of scrubs. Apparently, he’s not a very good spy.

Jake thinks maybe Andre is right, and he could be a doctor. Elizabeth says that would carry on the family tradition, but they’ll love him no matter what he decides. She says that he doesn’t need to figure it out right now, but he tells her that career day is coming up, and they’re supposed to do a demonstration, so he wants to learn more. Elizabeth says it sounds like plan. Jason calls and asks where they are. Elizabeth tells him they’re at the hospital in search of a snack. He asks if Jake is with her, and tells her not to say anything, just go somewhere safe. She asks what about home, but he says not to go there because the delivery man is still in Port Charles. He tells her to find a room and lock herself in. He’s calling security, and on his way right behind them. He says to do it right now, and she says, see you soon, not wanting to alarm Jake. She tells Jake that Jason is meeting them there. She thinks they should find someone to help with his presentation. In the meantime, Costa continues to slither sneak around.

Costa watches. Elizabeth sees Griff, who’s on his way to meeting. She says Jake wants to talk to him, but Jake says they don’t have to do it now. Elizabeth says, yes, they do, and shoves Jake into an examining room. She tells Griff that they could be in danger and asks him to stay and not let anyone get in the room. Costa looks grim.

I missed a little bit here, as I was busy cursing out my computer. The little spinny thing was happening, and it wouldn’t let me do anything.

Jason arrives at the hospital. He talks to a security guy about Costa, and he says they’re patrolling the floors. Jason says he’s dangerous, and they have to find him now. Elizabeth sends text to Jason, who replies that he’s on his way with security. Griff locks the door, and when Jake asks why, Griff tells him that he’s hiding from a mean administrator who wants to take him to a meeting. Jake talks about being a psychiatrist, saying he wants to make people feel better, but not do gross stuff, just talking. Elizabeth tells Griff that she thought Jake could ask him some questions to be better prepared for career day. Griff says the first thing is figuring out what’s wrong. Elizabeth peeks out between the blind slats, while Griff talks to Jake. They decide to role play with Jake being the doctor. When we had career day in junior high, I went to the talk by the local TV weatherman. I didn’t give a flying about being a meteorologist, but I thought he was hot stuff, and wanted to meet him.

Jason and the security guy do a sweep of one of the floors. Costa gets in the elevator. Jason sees him, and runs to get in, but the door closes before he can.

Dillon tells Nathan about going to high school with Amy, and says there was more drama than Pretty Little Liars. Nathan assumes that Maxie wasn’t the nicest, and Dillon says she was the queen of everything, and could have been characterized as a mean girl. He tells Nathan about Amy always being there to help, while her brother was the star running back and his jersey is still hanging in the gym. He was also a nice guy, even to drama dweebs like him. Amy lived in his shadow, but worshipped him. Nathan asks where he is now, and Dillon says he played for Wisconsin, but threw out his shoulder, and hasn’t been heard about since.

Olivia asks Alexis if she’s going to welcome Julian with open arms if he walks. Alexis says he has a legal right to see his child, and Julian says just give him that. Olivia says when he found out that he was Leo’s father, he went on and on about being a father from beginning this time, and how he was going to be father of the year. Instead, he got himself involved in his lunatic sister’s crime spree. He didn’t warn anyone or do a damn thing, except sink back into his lying, criminal ways. She asks what father does that, and he says one whose children were threatened. He did it for Leo. Olivia says she read his masterpiece of self-justification, and warned Alexis not to fall for it, but she did. It’s obvious why he loves her. She turns a blind eye to his criminal ways, and is putting Leo in danger to prove that she still loves him.

Alexis says she’s not using Leo to prove anything; she’s fighting for Julian’s legal rights, like any lawyer. Sam joins them, and asks what’s going on. Olivia says Alexis is championing her father. Alexis says she might think he’s a bad man, but he has the legal right to see his son. Sam says she doesn’t want him near any of her kids, and he’s never going to see Scout. He put their lives in danger, and Sam wonders how Alexis can defend him. Olivia thanks her for being the voice of reason, and says she’ll see the star-crossed lovers in court. Sam tells Alexis that if she insists on defending him, she has nothing to say, and tells her to get back to her client, or whatever he is to her.

Nathan googles Amy’s brother. Dillon asks if Nathan thinks he’s criminal. Nathan says Amy is stressed out, but shut down when he tried to help. When Dillon brought up high school, she said some people’s lives went downhill. He has a hunch that she was talking to her brother, and he’s learned his hunches are usually right. Dillon says he’s untraceable on the web and social media, but Nathan says he has access to other avenues. As they’re talking, Nathan finds something

Jake tells Griff that they’ll have to keep an eye on his tonsils. Elizabeth acts as Jake’s nurse, and he asks for the reflex mallet. Griff fools around, overreacting, and Jake says this is better than career day, and better than his act at the Nurses Ball.

Jason traps Costa on the roof. He wants answers.

Nathan tells Amy they need to talk. He thinks he knows what’s going on, and understands.

Alexis tells Julian not to start. He thanks her for being on his side about Leo, and she says she’s on Leo’s side. He says she always does the right thing, making me gag, and probably Alexis too. She says, hardly. He tells her if there’s a custody fight, he won’t ask her to represent him. Wow. He must be a narcissist. Who would grant him custody of anything? He says he’s grateful for Olivia recognizing that he loves her. He still does. She blows him off, saying she wants to talk to Sam. I laugh, because that’s such a guy thing, to pick out that she loves him from all the trash talk.

Sam says she’s waiting for Jason. Alexis asks what’s going on, and Sam asks how she can defend Julian – he has her where he wants her. Alexis says that’s not true, and Sam tells her to leave. Alexis thinks there’s more to it than Sam’s father, and Sam says maybe she was thinking about getting shoved off a bridge and wondering if she was going to lose her baby all night in the cold – because that great guy couldn’t be bothered to warn her. She says she’s fine, but can’t deal with them right now. Alexis tells her to call when she wants to talk.

Jake listens to his own heart on the stethoscope. Elizabeth says he has big heart, and he tells her that Andre said that too. He says she looked scared at the Nurses Ball, and asks if it was him. She says he didn’t do anything wrong, and promises it will be okay. They hug.

Jason asks Costa why. Costa says all he did was deliver a package. It wasn’t his job to ask questions, and it’s not Jason’s either. He says it can go two ways – they kill one another or walk away. They start to fight, and Costa slams Jason up against the door, holding him there.

Tomorrow, Spencer asks if Laura has forgotten about Nicholas, Amy tells Nathan it’s none of his business, and Jason asks who Costa is working for.

🏠 I find Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer downright creepy. It’s like watching two older-than-Miley women with her head on them. I also wonder if any of them had the same frustration I did as a teenager. While other kids could pretend they were adopted, and their real family was rich and fabulous, and would one day come to find them, I couldn’t. We all look way too much alike.

👶 Odd Mom Out begins again on Monday, July 10th, at 10 pm. This show was a surprise for me. Not having kids, I didn’t think I’d relate, but main character Jill (Jill Kargman, who also was a Club Kid in the 90s) is very relatable. She’s awkward, often unfiltered, and a consummate New Yorker, calling Hamilton akin to Frozen for adults. Like Seinfeld before it, people familiar with NYC will find a real gem in this show, but you don’t have to be a mom or from the city to laugh your ass off.

🏃 Bravo has also been rerunning Don’t Be Tardy, which was another one I was shocked that I liked so much. I wasn’t a huge Kim Zolciak fan when she was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and agreed with NeNe that she should close her legs to married men. But it seemed like once she took that advice, and took up with Kroy Biermann, she was a decent person waiting to happen. I had always liked her daughters, so I figured there must be something there somewhere. While she can still be brassy and grating, the family as a whole is fun and sweet. They’re also probably more real than most, Kim calling them the Beverly Hillbillies of Los Angeles. It’s a nice break from the usual harshness of reality TV.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

FYI, GH did not air anything new yesterday, so we didn’t miss anything. Areas where the Sessions testimony wasn’t on, got a rerun.

Jason looks at the shipping label from Jake’s package. Sam gets angry, and tells him this whole thing needs to be over.

Jake has a session with Andre. Elizabeth asks to talk to him for a second. She’s worried about Jake’s recovery. She says he’s been acting like nothing ever happened. She wonders if it’s part of Helena’s plan, and there’s something else to be triggered.

In Kelly’s with Nathan, Nina wonders if she should personally drop off a dress she has for Charlotte. She misses her, but Charlotte is getting used to living with Lulu now.

Anna visits Lulu. She hopes that Valentin hasn’t escaped custody, but Anna says he’s in custody in the Netherlands. She explains about the video that Valentin recorded; she promised she would show it to Charlotte.

The old Spinelli is back! He tells Sonny he’s sorry for his loss. Sonny says Ava is paying for what she did. Carly comes in, but Spinelli says unfortunately duty calls, and he can’t stay. Carly tells Sonny that Brick is cool, but she misses Spinelli, and Sonny should be grateful he has two geniuses to count on. Sonny is glad to see her, but she says they need to talk about what happened yesterday.

Nina says she did what Nathan wanted. She’s gotten the divorce papers back, and Valentin is in the Netherlands. Nathan says regardless of how he feels, Valentin loved her and it can’t be easy. Nina says they were a family, and it was the happiest time in her life, but it’s over. She says she also knows there was a part of Valentin that he couldn’t outrun, and that’s why he’s in prison. She’s moving on without bitterness or regrets. Well, maybe one regret.

Lulu tells Anna that they talked about Valentin visiting and reassuring Charlotte, but the WSB moved too fast. As usual, thinking only of herself, Lulu says Charlotte is doing great and doesn’t want to upset her by showing it to her. Anna says she gave her word. Lulu asks if there’s honor among spies, and Anna says they call it being human. He was a good father and wanted to say good-by. What is Lulu going to do when Charlotte asks later why her father never said good-by? I vote for lie and make a mess of things.

Andre sees no signs of a hidden agenda. His best advice to Elizabeth is to treat Jake like the others, and not like he’s under a microscope. She should trust how he’s doing. Everyone carries traces of trauma, but the important thing is to face it and not fear it; life continues.

Jason tells Sam that they can’t assume the threat is over. Helena is dead, but someone was working for her. Sam asks why it has to be him that finds them. Jason says a weapon was put in his son’s hands and he’s not letting it go. He asks her what’s going on. She says nothing; she’s just tired, and maybe coming down with something. Jason suggests someone else watch Scout, and she go back to the spa. She says she’s not a spa kind of girl, and he tells her to take a nap. If she feels up to it, maybe they can have lunch at the MetroCourt. She tells him be careful, and he says he always is.

Carly tells Sonny that things got emotional, and Sonny says no surprise. It was like the clouds parted when Ava confessed. It won’t bring Morgan back, but they have answers, and don’t have to believe they failed. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if she died. Carly says she got an update from Bobbie, and Ava’s condition has been upgraded to stable, and she’s even improving. Carly asks what if she never pays, but Sonny says she will in one way or another. He tells her to forget about Ava; he wants to feel what he did yesterday, and won’t let Ava change that. Carly brushes him off, saying she can’t do this.

Amy 2.0 asks Nathan for a favor. He says no, without even knowing what it is. He tells her that he’s not being the face of her advice column. She says he’s the only one who can save the book deal.

Lulu tells Anna that the last thing Charlotte needs is a reminder of a father who put her life at risk. Anna thinks that’s funny coming from someone with Luke as a father. You tell her, Anna. Lulu says that she’s not traumatizing Charlotte. Anna says it’s nothing cryptic; it’s sweet, and he tells her that wherever he is, he’ll be thinking about her. She adds that he’s promised to come back. Nina is at the door, and asks if that’s true, and if there’s a chance he could be released.

Jason meets with Spinelli. He explains about the package sent to Jake, and how it was really from Helena. Spinelli looks at the shipping label and says, The Jackal takes over.

Elizabeth drops by Jason’s place, wearing a beautiful lace top over a tank. She asks Sam if she can leave Jason a message. She tells Sam what Andre said, and wishes she felt they were past the danger. She mentions the shipping receipt, and Sam says that Jason is out looking for the mystery delivery man, and who knows what trouble that will start. Elizabeth says she just wants Jake safe, but Sam hears different voices in her head talking about being safe, like what happened to her at the spa. Elizabeth asks her about being an emergency contact while Jake is at camp, and is about to give her some information, but Sam sees her taking a gun out of her purse. Elizabeth hands her the forms, saying that she hopes it’s not an imposition. She asks if Sam is okay.

Spinelli tells Jason that he’s found security cameras in the area where the package came from.

Andre tells Jake that they’re just going to talk, and if he feels uncomfortable, just let him know. They do word association. He asks what he thinks of when he hears mom and dad – motorcycle riding and pizza – and has him elaborate. Then Andre says, Cassadine Island, and Jake is silent. He tells Jake what he thinks about – a little boy a lot like him, only younger, alone except for someone whispering in his ear. Jake says maybe, and Andre continues. He thinks the little boy had no one to talk to except an old woman telling him he was meant to do bad things. He says it’s a lot, but if Jake trusts him, he needs him to look at him. He tells Jake that he’s not that little boy anymore; he’s home and safe. He has his mom and dad and his brothers; he has Andre. He’s back where he belongs. He’s not a bad guy; he’s a good guy. I don’t think this is how word association works, but Andre is the psychiatrist. At a hospital I will never go to.

Carly tells Sonny that Josslyn knows. She says one minute they’re at each other’s throats, and the next they’re kissing. Sonny says he doesn’t blame Josslyn for being confused, but after what they’ve been though, it feels right. Carly says they keep going through the same cycle, and asks if he wants to go through it again. He says they made bad choices out of grief, but they can do better. Carly doesn’t want to risk doing it again, and risk hurting the ones they love. He asks if that’s really it, or is she still pissed about Jax?

Anna tells Nina that the WSB is confident they can secure a conviction. Nina talks about Valentin saying he’d be back last time, and he was. Anna can’t speculate. Nina says she knows Charlotte will miss him. Lulu has to pick her up, and asks Nina to wait to give her the dress personally. Anna says what about the message, but Lulu doesn’t know. She leaves, and Nina apologizes for putting Anna on the spot. Anna says it’s no secret how Lulu feels and why. Nina says it’s just them, and she wants to know what’s going to happen to Valentin.

Amy tells Nathan that there’s no book deal unless they can meet the man behind the column. Nathan says there is no man, and she should take credit for her own work. Clearly, he doesn’t have the answers to anyone’s problems, and the answer to this is no. He suggests she find someone else, and she tells him thanks for nothing. Geez, they’re basically acquaintances – Amy II expects a lot.

Anna doesn’t know what’s going to happen, but Valentin is living proof of what happens when the WSB wants to tie something off. She says the Chimera shouldn’t have existed in the first place, and they have to blame someone. She thinks they’re going to make Valentin the scapegoat. She doesn’t support it, but his hands aren’t clean. Nina says neither are her sister’s. Anna says they had her in custody, but she got away. She hates what Alex did, and thinks she should stand trial. Nina says it doesn’t matter; they’re getting divorced. Nina asks if Anna thinks she’s a coward. Anna says she can’t tell Nina how to think or feel, but the story isn’t black and white. The man she knew and married, Charlotte’s father, is a good man. She thinks he’s the man he wanted to be before it went so horribly wrong.

Carly says what Sonny did to Jax was wrong, but if the positions were reversed, she’d do the same. Sonny says thanks for admitting that they’re alike, which is why they belong together. She tells him that when things go wrong, they don’t balance each other out; they implode. He asks if she still wants a divorce.

Sam tells Elizabeth she’s sleep deprived and thinks she might be getting a cold. Elizabeth ask if she wants a doctor appointment, but Sam says no, and of course she can use her as a contact for Jake; she’s actually honored. Elizabeth asks her to have Jason call if he finds out anything. Sam says the guy is probably long gone, and Elizabeth says she hopes Sam is right. When Elizabeth is gone, Sam tells herself to get a grip. It’s nothing sleep won’t cure.

Spinelli tells Jason that maybe there was no delivery truck, and the guy came in a car. He notices one that was in the vicinity a couple of times. He can’t get clear image of a face, but gets the license plate. Jason says good thing Spinelli isn’t in the business anymore, or he might have to hack into government records and find out who owns the car. They smile at each other.

Lulu comes back with Charlotte. Nina tells Charlotte she missed her, and asks about camp. Charlotte asks if papa is back, but Nina says that she brought her something. Charlotte opens the box and says the dress is prettier than she’d imagined. Nina says she told them how to make it, so she’s the designer. Charlotte thanks her. Nina tells Charlotte that there have been a lot of changes, and she’s here living with her mom and new family. Nina thinks it’s cool, and wants her to know they won’t see each other that much anymore. Charlotte asks if she’s going away, but Nina says no. Charlotte is with her mom and family now, and she’s happy for her, but no matter what, she loves her. Charlotte says she knows, and loves her too. They sing a song together. Anna tells Lulu it’s not about them; it’s about Charlotte.

Sam wakes up startled, and thinking someone is there. She calls out, who are you, and what do you want? I’m not sure why people do that. If someone is sneaking around your house, they’re probably not going to answer those questions. Sam hears Scout crying, and goes upstairs.

Spinelli tells Jason that it’s a rental car, and he has to look up the license of the renter. After a moment, Spinelli says, got him.

Andre tells Elizabeth that he and Jake had a good talk. He’s a sensitive, bright boy, and they’re on the right track. Jake tells Andre he doesn’t want to be a magician anymore. Maybe he wants to play baseball. An orderly watches them from the hallway.

Lulu tells Charlotte that Anna has something for her too, from her papa. Anna tells her that Valentin was sad that he didn’t get to see her before he went away, but he made a video for her. She says she can set it up for privacy, but Charlotte wonders if Nina should hear it too, since she didn’t get to say good-by either.

Carly says she’ll sign everything back over to Sonny, and they can each keep what they brought to the marriage. He says rationally, it makes sense, and she asks if he agrees. He says they’ve been divorced before, and it didn’t change anything; they’re a part of each other. She says maybe they need to let go, and hugs him. That’s not letting go. She leaves, and Sonny ponders.

Charlotte gives Nina an earbud. She says she knows that Nina misses papa too. They listen together.

Amy is on the phone, saying she’ll find another way, and she’s sorry it’s going to take longer to find the money, but don’t give up, adding, I love you. Nathan overhears.

Sam says mommy needs her nap too, and gets back on the couch.

Spinelli asks Jason if he recognizes the guy, and he says yes. His name is Costa Phillipos, and he’s the orderly who was watching Jake.

Elizabeth thanks Andre. Jake says, happy mom, happy life. Andre thinks he might have a future as a baseball playing, motorcycle riding psychiatrist. Jake says he’ll think it over. The orderly follows them as they leave.

Tomorrow, Griff might know what’s wrong with Sam, Jake and Costa meet, and Olivia-F tells Julian to stay out of Leo’s life.

The Real Housewives of New York City

It’s morning at Sonja’s place, and her lover, Frenchie, is there. He’s already been up and out, and brought her a poinsettia, and is making eggs. In her interview, she says he’s taking it seriously, and it looks like they’re dating, and she’s dating Rocco. Tinsley comes down. She likes when Frenchie spends the night because she gets breakfast. In her interview, Tinsley tells us that originally Sonja had picked him out for her, and then scooped him up. They discuss relationships and labels. Zzzz… IMO nobody likes labels because they’re afraid to commit. To anything. In her interview, Sonja says it’s scary, and not what she was looking for, but expects things to fall into place. Frenchie mentions Rocco, so he’s not as ignorant as Sonja thinks. He makes more eggs, and I think I’m in love.

Bethenny is decorating for her holiday party. She wants it to be a glam NYC party. A super gigantic bottle of SkinnyGirl is brought in. There’s a luge made of ice on it, and some kind of contraption that you can drink out of. Someone gave me a bottle of her Cosmopolitan once, and it was good, but I was like, where’s the liquor? Dorinda throws a gift together in the car. Ramona wasn’t invited. She’s going out with Avery and her girlfriends instead. Do they know? Sonja is off to some faraway place after dropping in. Tinsley jokes that she and Connor are getting together while she’s away, but Sonja isn’t amused.

Bethenny has personalized ornaments for everyone. Dorinda arrives first, and marvels at the caviar. She asks the chef to teach her how to open an oyster. He says eating oysters is like eating the sea. Very poetic. Oyster success! Dorinda says the ornaments are perfect, and Bethenny says she has one for Luann, but she’s away. And Ramona isn’t allowed in her building. Coal for you!

Ramona and the girls go to a restaurant, and she suggests starting with a cocktail. In her interview, she says it’s like Avery’s Sweet Sixteen was yesterday, and now all the girls are in their twenties. Ramona tells the girls about how she blacked out and attacked Bethenny in a rage. She claims that she and Bethenny are a lot alike. One of the girls says she shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells with a friend, and Ramona acts like she’s Yoda. In her interview, Ramona says they have a bond and synergy. Oh… I’m not even sure what to say. We flash back to Dorinda squawking at her about the guest room being trashed.

Tinsley arrives at Bethenny’s party, laden with gifts. Everything is white and feathery, with red, and silver accents. Carole says she’d be a bigger drinker if they all came in an ice sculpture luge. Tinsley talks about Ramona not apologizing for trashing Dorinda’s room, but saying that she shouldn’t have come at Bethenny. Dorinda tells them that she suggested leaving Ramona a can of gasoline next time. Sonja joins the group, and Dorinda says she was recapping. She says that Ramona is all, ignore it and it will go away, and Carole is surprised at Ramona’s aggression. She thinks that divorced life isn’t as fun as Ramona thought it would be. Sonja says Ramona has always trashes hotel rooms. What?

At the restaurant, Ramona tells the story in a whole different way, making up some cock-and-bull story, and pretending it was nothing. <sigh> We saw the pictures. Ramona says how special the girls are to her, and everyone toasts.

Luann gets ready for her big day. Dorinda arrives. Luann thinks she forgot she had to be there early for hair and makeup, and went to the beach. In her interview, Luann says she’s a hopeless romantic (or maybe she’s just hopeless – BA-DUM-CHH!), and Tom is like “home” for her. She feels loved, wanted, and whole as a couple. The attendants come down the aisle, with Luann following with her brother. She says it’s everything she imagined, and of course, she looks breathtaking. The altar is adorned with a simple arch of flowers. In her interview, Luann says a lot of people weren’t supportive, so this is what she has to say to them, and holds up her ring fingers. The bride and groom are announced, and Marilyn Monroe pops out of a cake. The first dance and cake happen while Luann voiceovers about love.

Carole and Bethenny go to Chinatown. They have lunch at a dumpling house where you pick your own dumplings and other dishes out from a cart. Carole wants Bethenny to choose her food. Bethenny says Carole is literally lost in America. They talk about not being invited to Luann’s wedding. In her interview, Carole alludes to something about Tom, but I’m not sure what. That he’s gay? A playboy? I don’t know. Adam has finally moved out. Carole tells Bethenny it’s time, and six months of living together was a lot. She feels like there’s balance again.

Ramona visits Dorinda. Fast wedding. Do we get a special? Dorinda tells Ramona that she forgot to book some of the flights. In her interview, she hopes it wasn’t anything psychological. She says Luann looked like a princess, and shows Ramona some video clips. In her interview, Dorinda tells us that she also forgot her dress. She doesn’t want to go to any more parties right now. Apparently, Luann is having a party for the people who weren’t invited, or as Ramona says, the discards.

Bethenny and Ramona go to an ice cream place, where Bethenny orders green tea Oreo. Carole tries blueberry lavender, and makes a face like you would think. She ends up getting chocolate, and Bethenny tells her that she’s boring.

Sonja says she has to make space for Frenchie’s things. She explains to Tinsley that she told him that he’s more on Tinsley’s list than hers, because he’ll want kids, and he said what about adoption? Sonja pretends to faint. She gives Tinsley instructions on the changes he wants, and says it’s a conundrum. Tinsley wonders if she can make changes too.

NYC at Christmastime is a wonderland. Bethenny hopes this is the last celebration she attends for a wedding she wasn’t invited to. She says she did call Luann a whore though, and deserves her station in life, the aftermath party. Ha-ha! She hits the bar before anyone else gets there. Dorinda is next, and Bethenny says it’s weird that she’s been there by by herself for fifteen minutes. Ever the hostess, even though it’s not her party, Dorinda apologizes. Dorinda tells her about the wedding, and how they have to stop celebrating now. Bethenny says it’s like Ramadan.

Luann arrives – she’s married – time to celebrate! She says she didn’t cut the line, she just got in it, and got a great guy. Ramona thinks the venue is drab, and maybe they ran out of money. She’s the worst. She asks Luann about the wedding, explaining to Avery that it was Luann’s first wedding, since she eloped the first time. Luann tells them how wonderful it was. Ramona thinks Tinsley’s date – Troy, the guy she met at the bar – is more appropriate for Avery. Tinsley happens to look quite young, you jealous thing. I never liked them younger even when I was, but I think you should date/marry whoever you bloody well want to.

Tom talks about Luann putting her heart and soul into the wedding. Sonja makes a grand entrance with Frenchie. She’d been keeping him on the DL, but now her worlds are mixed. Tinsley tells Bethenny about Frenchie moving in, and Bethenny compares it to Three’s Company. I hear Ramona’s annoying laugh. In her interview, Dorinda wonders how that works with Sonja still dating Rocco.

Tinsley’s date is twenty-three. Carole thinks that’s fine, but he’s not husband material for her. Sonja says Ramona generally doesn’t bring one of her victims out in public. In other words, she’s brought a date. Tinsley spills her wine. Troy swills his wine. Frenchie talks about bicycling through a vineyard. Sonja says Tinsley’s date is like, twelve, and Ramona tells her to shush. Tom says Luann is a great cook, and Carole asks if he actually saw her make the food. Sonja introduces them to Frenchie.

Tom says Luann is the best present he ever got. Dorinda bangs on a glass for attention. She says since she made a speech that was barely understandable at the engagement party, she’s making a toast now. She thanks Luann for having them, and asks if they’re done celebrating. Everyone laughs. Encouraged, She gets off on a small tangent about how great the wedding was, even though some of them weren’t invited, and how good it made her feel. Tom says she always makes it nice. Kudos to him for paying attention. He talks about never being happier, and everyone drinks. Bethenny and company drink to the friends that weren’t invited.

Next time, Sonja tells Frenchie that everyone is joking about them, Sonja talks to Rocco, Frederik is back, and Dorinda tries to play peacemaker. Good luck with that.

🍳 Aarón Sánchez has joined Gordon and Christina Tosi as a judge on MasterChef. Gordon told contestant Mark that his American breakfast dish was “hard to look at,” and asked if he was just going through the motions. In all honesty, looking at his plate, I thought I could go through the motions better than that and wondered how he got here. That’s the first time I’ve said that in the history of MasterChef. Not surprisingly, Mark went home. He was a good loser sport, but then negated it by saying if he had two arms, he’d be patting himself on the back. Humility, dude.

🍜 On The f Word, Kal Pen, Max Greenfield, and Katy Perry were guests. The challenge dish was chicken parmigiana, with  spaghetti and broccoli rabe. The challengers were The Meatheads – a group of friends and retired football players – vs Win & Stein – siblings from Boca Raton who dress in costume on Thanksgiving, when they play a game of kickball, a bottle of champagne going to the winners. The Meatheads had the highest percentage of diners saying they’d pay for the meal, therefore moving to the finals. This surprised me, since several of the diners had complained of the chicken being undercooked.

It was National Bourbon Day, so Gordon played a game of truth or fiction with Kal, the loser drinking a shot. Gordon lost miserably, and after a few shots, started tossing them on the floor. After Kal answered wrong, and took an extra shot to make it more even, he found out Gordon’s glasses contained green tea instead. The Guinness world record holder was challenged by Gordon to a match of halibut fileting. (It has to be cut into portions of a certain size as well.) Nineteen-year-old Jenna Fabich lost by 9 seconds, and Gordon now holds the title. Katy and Gordon made meatballs over spiralized vegetables, with Katy being given only vocal instructions, as Gordon set up a partition between them. I find her alternately fun and irritating. I was good with her until she ran away from a smoking pan. If there had been a couch in the vicinity, I’m sure she would have jumped on it. I have to mention too, that this show is filmed live, which adds a certain flavor to the atmosphere. No pun intended, but it is an f-word. Next time, it’s Andy Cohen in a cook-off with Gordon, there’s a fishing excursion, and Gordon’s daughter, Tilly, joins him.

🎪 This week, Andy Cohen’s Then & Now covered 2008 – oh, the year my life started going downhill. Britney Spear’s breakdown, and the YouTube guy who yelled “leave her alone!” Octomom, and Bernie Madoff (even Elie Wiesel got taken). Obama (thanks for ruining my life during your administration) and how that ties into Trump (thanks for ruining my life right now, because I can’t win no matter what party is in office). Ironman, Dark Knight, and the more human superheroes. Heath Ledger’s death, the beginnings of The Real Housewives of the OC, and the housing market crash. Kevin Smith commenting on the comics come to life, and the guys from Million Dollar Listing giving insight into the real estate drop. In an amusing moment, while Sarah Palin was being discussed, Andy accidentally called Tina Fey “Tina Palin.” When cultures collide. An interesting bit of Trivia was also handed to Meghan McCain when Andy told her about a cereal named after her father (and a few other political figures), the profits going to kickstart Airbnb. She was like, my father didn’t see a dime, but more power to them. Next time is the season finale. They didn’t give a year, but it looks like the theme is the rich and famous. I’ll be sad when this is over – it’s been a fun look back!
