General Hospital

Laura says she hopes she’s not interrupting anything, but Anna says she could use the break. You’d think protecting a community wouldn’t require so much paperwork. Laura says, try getting the right colored trash cans to the right address. You’ll be buried under paperwork for weeks. She was just about to meet someone, but she wanted to talk to Anna first. Anna asks, what’s on her mind? and Laura says, justice. She thinks she and Anna have been standing in the way of it for too long.

As they put away chairs after a meeting, Finn says he and Alexis are in the room at the same time. She asks if he missed her chair stacking abilities, and he says, still not good. He hasn’t seen her. Has she been hitting another meeting or… She says she could give him a million reasons why, but it all boils down to other things taking precedence, and he says, it happens. She says she knows people slack off from time to time, but if she continues to do it this way for this long, she may risk everything.

Aiden tells Violet, dinner has arrived, as he walks into Finn’s apartment with Elizabeth and Jake. Violet says, good. She didn’t feel like cooking. Elizabeth says she’s glad they could help. How is she? Violet says, good, and Elizabeth asks Gregory, how’s his day? He says he’s fine, and she says, Finn’s not home? He says, not yet. The babysitter just left. Violet asks what they’re having for dinner, and Elizabeth says, they’re having turkey burgers, fries, and salad. And her dad better hurry up or he’s going to miss out. Aiden says, they’ll have fries if it’s okay for him to use the air fryer, and Gregory says, of course (🍷) it is. Just make sure to tell Finn how much he loves it. It’ll make his day. Elizabeth tells the boys to unload the stuff in the kitchen and get started, and Gregory tells them to help themselves to anything in there. Violet suggests she show them where everything is, and Gregory says, good thinking. Violet follows the boys, and Elizabeth asks if Gregory is okay with a turkey burger. He says, if she’s asking him if he’ll be able to hold it, or will he fumble it all over himself and the table and the floor, her guess is as good as his. She says she was asking him if he was in the mood for it, and he says, sorry. A burger sounds great. She says, and for the record, if he holds it, drops it, or wears it, it’s still going to taste really good. He asks, what’s going on with Jake? and she says, ugh. He says, never mind. He thinks he knows.

Chase comes out wearing an apron and carrying some plates, and Brook says, the smells coming out of that kitchen are driving her nuts. She can’t wait to dig into this very green… He says, chicken. He was very free with the spinach. He went with their honeymoon theme – chicken Florentine. He sets the plates down, says, Italy, and pulls out her chair. She sits and wonders how she got so lucky. First him, now this. He says he’s made dinner before. It’s not that big of a deal. He opens a bottle of wine, and she says she loves him for doing this. She loves all the extra work he did in the kitchen to make this happen. She loves him for selling his truck, but hates the fact that he doesn’t have it anymore.

Chase says, the truck was just a silly guy thing. He had no idea she was so attached to it. She says she’s attached to him, and he loved that truck, but he says, no. He loves her. Besides – he takes the apron off and sits down – it’s not like he needs the truck to haul lumber or bales of hay or anything like that. She tells him, whatever you say, and he asks if she has a picture in her mind of her standing in the truck bed, holding a Just Married sign, with tin cans hanging from the bumper. She says she does now. She would have loved that. Though at the moment, she would much love Lucy Coe dangling from that bumper. He says he saw what happened on Home & Heart. He’s sorry the video launch of Deception’s new cream was so problematic. She says, if Sasha hadn’t shown up when she did, they’d still be hearing about the trials and triumphs of Lucy Coe, and he says, Sasha’s pretty great. Brook says, because she’s gracious and charming, and she made it clear the viewers that they should buy Deception’s new cream. Lucy made it clear to the viewers that she needs therapy. He says, it got a little better when Scott got there. He at least mentioned the cream. She says, the Home & Heart new product launch was supposed to be another step in Deception’s financial rebound, and he says he’s on track to get a raise at the PCPD’s next fiscal year. She says, he’s on track? He should just get it right now. No one’s better at their job than he is and he works harder than almost anyone. He says, if he does get the raise – they clink glasses – he thinks that they should invest the money in some property, build a little forest getaway, and maybe that truck will come in handy. She says, he realizes they don’t have to wait, right? They could buy five new trucks, five forest getaways… They could probably buy five forests. He asks if they need to have the money talk again, as in, her family has all the money, and he has a decent government salary. She says, they probably should, but first, she just needs to take a couple of bites of this gorgeous, green chicken to fortify herself.

Alexis says she doesn’t know if Gregory told Finn, but she’s so sorry. She’s not going to be able to make Chase’s wedding. He says he’s sorry to hear that. Did she get a better offer? She says she got a different offer. Diane has made it her mission to get her disbarment fixed. He says, good news, and she says, shocking news. She would not have thought after all this time… She thought the chances of them wanting to review her disbarment highly improbable. He says, it became not so improbable, and she says, it became real. She has a hearing with the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan the day after Chase’s wedding, but she has to be there 24 hours in advance. He says he’s sure Chase and Brook will be disappointed, but they’ll be thrilled by the reason. She says, getting a hearing does say the court feels there’s sufficient grounds to take a second look. He says, if anybody deserves a second chance… but she says she doesn’t know about that. He asks why she says that, and she says, maybe she got the justice she deserved the first time when the court smacked her down. He says, the court smacked her down, but she’s doing a pretty good job of it herself, and she says she knows she didn’t support perjury and she didn’t perjure herself, but she did lie to the medical board, and she was under oath. So when the disciplinary committee took action, she didn’t think it was appropriate to contest it. He says he gets it. She needed to punish herself. If we don’t think we’re worth saving, we don’t even try.

Laura says she doesn’t think she or Anna were consciously trying to impede the pursuit of justice. She’s just saying that she knows she’s guilty of not seeing clearly what was right in front of her. She’s sorry. This has been weighing on her for a long time. Anna says she thinks Laura is going to have to be a bit more specific, and Laura says she’s talking about her friendship with Sonny. Anna says she knows he and Laura have a history, and Laura says, Luke and Sonny were friends. The club Luke owned was originally owned by Sonny. Anna says, Paradise Lounge, and Laura says, yeah. Anna says, such an ironic name in retrospect, and Laura tells her, to say it was a disreputable place would be a compliment. Eventually, they just shut it down, and then Luke and Sonny turned that space into Luke’s blues club. They really bonded over that. They became very close, and since then, Sonny has done a lot of things to help a lot of people that she loves. Anna says, he did for Robin. He was there for her daughter in ways she couldn’t be. Laura says, he’s done a lot of good. He really has, especially for the hospital. And the thing is, she really believed they had a bond. Anna says she did too. He listened to her when that double-agent thing came out. She considered him a friend, albeit an unconventional one. Laura says, considered. Past tense? Anna says, an individual walked through this door into her office and told her flat out that Sonny ordered him to kill someone, and Laura says, Sonny ordered a hit. She guesses she knew in theory what Sonny did for a living, but she guesses she didn’t allow herself to think about what it meant in practice. Anna says, he’s charming and generous and has decent impulses, no question. But charm has no moral weight and impulses aren’t character. Laura says she feels so ashamed that it took her so long to wake up and see him for everything that he is. Anna says, every time, she felt they shared this understanding of darkness that no one else shared. She didn’t allow herself to play out what that was, what that actually meant. Laura says her friendship with Sonny was never a secret. She’s just here to say, if Anna ever felt inclined to go easy on Sonny because of her, don’t. (Come on. These two aren’t stupid and they’ve been around the block and back. They knew Sonny was a mob boss, but thought all he did was import coffee?)

Laura says she realizes now that Sonny has a very dark side, one that he can keep hidden from most people, but she got a chance to see what that side was capable of when she saw her brother lying in that hospital bed, and she realized that Sonny is a violent and dangerous time bomb that could go off whenever he decides it’s necessary. Anna says, that sounds about right, and Laura says she knows Cyrus has done the same, probably a lot worse, but Cyrus is not as skilled as Sonny at not getting caught. Anna says, he’s not a generous philanthropist that has woven himself into the very fabric of the city for the past few years, and Laura says she’s still struggling with what Sonny is capable of doing. That he could do what he did to her brother with just his bare hands. Anna says, and in church. She talked to Cyrus, and he said he would not testify against Sonny. There were no other witnesses, and she knew that Sonny would lie about whatever charges she filed against him. Laura says, and as they’re learning, Sonny is really good at lying, and Anna agrees. Laura says she thinks she’ll be going. So if the opportunity presents itself for Anna to pursue this case… Anna says she’ll be ready. Laura can count on it. Laura thanks her and leaves.

Chase says, his wine guy had several choices to pair with tonight’s dinner, but he chose the pinot grigio because it’s Italian, and Brook says, like the chicken. He says, and the woman he loves, and she says she loves him too. And she loves this wine. She thinks she’s had enough of it to have the money conversation. So she and Tracy talked… He says, let him get a pen, and she says, for what? He says, so he can sign the prenup that Tracy drew up and they can get back to the wine, but she says, drink the wine. There is no prenup. He says, it’s fine. He thought about it and he’s fine with signing it. And he wants her to feel safe. She says she does feel safe, and he says he does too. Which is why he’s fine with saying that nothing is ever going to happen to their marriage. Which means this prenup means nothing. So they’ll put it in a drawer and pull it out in 50 years, and they’ll see how much his signature changed. She laughs and says, they both know his signature changes depending on his mood. Remember when his team lost and he had to sign the pizza delivery guy’s receipt? The pen almost went through his hand. There is no prenup. He got another bottle, didn’t he? He says, how about this? If for some reason their marriage falls apart, then he walks away with nothing more than he brought to the marriage. She says she appreciates the offer, and he says, but she’s not going to take it. Because according to Brook’s teachings, you never accept the first offer. She says she couldn’t be prouder. Their marriage isn’t going to fail. She knows it and he knows it. So the conversation they should be having isn’t about what happens when they split up. It’s about what happens when they don’t.

Finn says, good thing Diane is in Alexis’s corner, because it doesn’t sound like Alexis is, and Alexis says she’s just being cautious. She does have a history. He says, history is in the past. It’s done. She says her apologies to him and Mr. Faulkner, but the past is not dead. The past’s not even in the past. It’s right here. And that side of her that’s capable of doing horrible things or self-sabotaging may be in the backseat right now, but it’s always around there, lurking somewhere. He says, they’ve talked about this. They’re wired the same way. That’s what makes them always focus on the negative things first and the good things come in tenth place, but that doesn’t mean they’re to be ignored. Some really wonderful things have come out of her past. She says, her girls. Best thing that ever happened to her. Nothing else even comes close. She refers to them as little Roombas because they’re always wandering here and there and everywhere, but eventually, they always get back on track and come back to mom. He says, she must have done a lot of things right to have three daughters as great as the ones she has. She says, other than her girls, she feels like the most good she’s ever done in the world has been through her legal career. Because she’s been able, in some very small way, to move the needle of justice forward. She wants to do that again. She wants to feel good like that. He says, yes. And if the court case goes the way it should, she will. She says, so she just needs to not get in her own way and stay sober. And they both know if she loses this case, she’ll want a drink to console herself and if she wins it, she’ll want to celebrate. He says, life doesn’t make it easy, does it? and she says, Molly is already worried about her. If she slips up again, her girls may be done with her. He says, she’s not going to let that happen, and she says she’s here. And she’s going to be here tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day. And if she’s not here and he’s here, he better call her out on it. He says, okay. He’s watching his dad die slowly before his eyes. And after treating his dad poorly most of his life, he has a few months to make up for it. So he’ll be there for her if she promises the same for him. They shake hands, and she says, always my friend. She hugs him, and he thanks her.

Violet and Aiden come out of the kitchen, and Elizabeth asks, how’s it going in there? Aiden says, all good, and Violet says, it would be great if Aiden could make the cheese fries instead of regular ones. Gregory says he’s all for it if it’s okay with Aiden’s mom, and Elizabeth asks if they think she’d say no to cheese fries. Is his brother helping? Aiden says, he was, but now he’s on his phone, and Elizabeth says, just yell if they need anything. They go back into the kitchen, and Gregory says, it’s none of his business, but he’s guessing that the tension level has risen a few notches in her house since Jake’s father came back in the picture. She says, yeah. Actually, she was hoping to talk to him about this. She knows there was a time when Finn rejected him, and even though their situations are completely different, there’s a form of that happening with Jake. He doesn’t want to talk about Jason. He doesn’t want to acknowledge his name. He’s so, so angry. Obviously, Gregory didn’t just up and leave his kid without any notice whatsoever, so she doesn’t know. Maybe he doesn’t have any advice to offer. He says, it sounds like Jake’s not the only one who’s angry, and she says, no, he’s not, but he is the one most crippled by it. He says, sometimes he thinks anger is just our way of punishing ourselves when the one we really want to hurt is someone we love and can’t let go of. He can’t tell her how much he loved Finn’s mom. Watching her die was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Worse than waking up now each morning, wondering what ALS has stolen from him. But then he met Jackie. She was so young and vibrant, she made him feel alive again. Maybe it was a rebound. They loved each other and he wanted to be in love again so badly. It didn’t feel wrong to him. It didn’t feel like he was being unfaithful to his late wife. She says, but that’s how Finn saw it, and he says, that’s the way Finn had to see it. Otherwise, he would be being disloyal to his mother. The anger that Finn channeled his way… But like anything that hot and intense, it had to eventually exhaust itself and it did. And what remained is a loving father/son relationship that she sees now. So maybe Jake just needs to let his anger burn itself out so he can get to his own now.

Alexis says, Finn knows if there’s anything he or his father want or need, she’ll be there, and he thanks her. She says she just wants to let him know that she saw Gregory recently and he didn’t look very good. Finn says he knows. And like her, he’s struggling to hang on to his sobriety. When he reflects on his past, he was not a good son. His dad did nothing but good, and he treated him very badly. Alexis says, he’s changed. He’s made amends. He’s not the same person anymore. He says, yeah, but that person knows where he lives. Now his dad has turned inward. Gregory won’t let Finn go to any of his doctor’s appointments with him and won’t let Finn see any of his test results. All he does is give Finn these glowing reports about how well he’s doing, and all Finn has to do is take one look at him to know he’s lying. She says, being a doctor and his son, he picked the wrong guy to try and bluff, and Finn says, he’s holding himself together by sheer force of will so he can make it to Chase’s wedding. She says, it means a lot to him, and he says, it does. It’s going to, right? Chase is the good son. He’s the one who wronged his dad. He turned it around in his head to make himself right. It takes a lot of time and energy to convince yourself everyone else is the problem, but not you. She says she knows the syndrome, and he says he stays up at night thinking of all the time he lost his family, the lost days that became lost years. He doesn’t sleep much anymore. She says, nobody can punish us like we can, and he says, his dad was devoted to his mom. He was there for her. She died so young. Finn was just angry. He was angry at everyone. But when his dad met Jackie and she helped him move on and be happy, he found a way to punish his dad for it. Sleeping with her before the wedding, before their wedding. What kind of son does that? (I’m glad he mentioned this. When Gregory didn’t, I started to wonder if I’d made it up. I guess he felt it wasn’t his place to tell Elizabeth.)

Brook tells Chase that her mother kept them away from the Quartermaine money. She knew it was there, but she had a pretty good career as a music manager. The Quartermaine money wasn’t always a gift. He asks if Ned was around, and she says, enough. She’s pretty sure he paid child support. It’s not like she ever felt she didn’t have two parents. And her grandparents, her aunts and uncles, her cousins, all the people who might have been cousins, they were always around. He says, so that’s why the guest list for their wedding was so long, and she says, and she only invited the ones she likes. Some of her relatives had a house. Some of them had one gifted to them in a will, but none of them were rich. They were comfortable in Bensonhurst. He says his upbringing was probably quieter than hers, but they were pretty middle class too, and she says she wants that kind of life for their kids. A life full of love that makes them feel safe. She knows there are going to be bumps along the way, but they will be surrounded by family who will take them by the hand and help them. He asks if she doesn’t think there will be members of the family who will want to take their hand and put a bunch of money in it, and she says, there definitely will be. He knows her family. That’s going to happen, but there’s two of them and they can send them off. It’ll be a little tricky to have a normal life, especially in Port Charles, but it’s not impossible. He takes her hands and says, if they’re together, nothing is impossible, and she says, there you go. She thinks what granny was really after with that prenup wasn’t about protecting her trust or her inheritances from him; it was about protecting them from what the insanity of that kind of money can bring. He tells her that he never thought he’d say this, but he thinks Tracy has the right idea.

Chase hands Brook her glass of wine and says, here’s what he thinks, and he thinks Tracy would agree. They’re young, they’re healthy, they have careers that they love, and between them, they’re comfortable. She says she’s with him so far, and he says, they take the interest from her trust fund and any other funds she has and put them into a savings account for their kids. It’ll be for education… and shoes. She says, exactly what kind of shoes is he thinking? It sounds good. He says, it will be a safety net if anything comes up, and she says, like a shoe emergency. He says, a medical emergency. Or if they want to help out a loved one. And he’s sure there’s charities they’d like to support. She says she likes the sound of it, and he says, the only thing he cares about their kids inheriting is the good stuff they bring to their lives. Honesty, compassion, a strong work ethic. She says, he brings so much more than that. Granny told her that no one would want to live off their spouse’s money, which is a really weird thing for her to say, considering all the guys in her life did just that. He says he never understood her taste in men, but he understands where she’s coming from. He always wants to feel like he can serve and protect this family. See what he did there? She says she did, and he says he thinks he brings value to their marriage. He can sing. She says, yeah, he can, and he says he can cook. She says she can attest to that, and he says he can catch the bad guys. Some might even say, it’s her dollars against his collars. She tells him that she’d never say that, and they kiss.

Laura goes into the Bistro and says, she asked them to meet and keeps them waiting. She’s so sorry. Cyrus says he’s always happy to wait for his sister, and he used the time to try and figure out the reason behind her unprecedented invitation. She asks what he came up with, but he says, nothing. He decided to be grateful just to spend some time with her. She says she’s glad they’re doing this then. He’s looking well. He thanks her and says he’s feeling good. He’s getting stronger every day. He tries to look at his time at GH as just an extended spa stay. She says, he’s joking, but what happened to him in that church was no joke. He says, it’s in the past, but she says she’s been thinking about it an awful lot lately, and if he chose not to press charges against Sonny because of her, because of her friendship with him, she wants him to reconsider. He deserves justice. She doesn’t want to be the reason he doesn’t get it.

Detective Brennan says, Anna wanted to see him? and she says she wanted to know the status of Dex Heller’s application to the academy. He says, Heller aced the written exam. He’s got a physical and job standard test next. He’s got to say, the guy looks army ready. He can’t imagine there would be a problem with either one. She says, that’s great. Sounds very promising. He says, they don’t get candidates of this caliber very often, and when they do, the academy grabs them. She thanks him for the update, and he says, if he could be honest, he thinks though, in this case, they should consider passing on it.

Violet says, ladies and gentlemen, dinner is served, when Finn walks in. He hugs Violet, and Gregory says, your timing is impeccable, sir. Finn says, sir. He likes it. Jake says he hopes they made enough fries, but Finn says, don’t worry. He’ll just eat Jake’s. Aiden says, there’s another basket ready to go. His air fryer is amazing. Finn says he knows. He keeps telling people and they say he’s crazy. Gregory, Aiden, and Violet head for the kitchen, and Finn asks how Jake’s day was. Jake says, no complaints. How about him? Finn says, no complaints, and Jake says, they’re living the dream. Jake follows the others, and Finn apologizes to Elizabeth for being late. She kisses him and he says he had a meeting and he stayed behind for a little bit and talked to Alexis. She asks if everything is okay, and he says, just checking in with each other. How’s his dad doing? She says, he’s just the sweetest person. If it wasn’t for Finn, she’d be halfway in love with him already. Finn says he better not be late for dinner again, and they go to the kitchen.

Cyrus says, Laura isn’t the reason Sonny escaped justice for his assault. He is. She asks what he means, and he says, Nina Reeves came to see him when he was in the hospital. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Tell him, does she think people like Nina Reeves and the Quartermaines become phenomenally wealthy without breaking the law, or are they just phenomenally good at not getting caught? She says, if she had to take a guess, she’d think that over the generations it’s probably a bit of both. He says, Nina used some of that generational wealth to walk in and buy him a radio spot for his Scripture based show. She asks if that was in exchange for him not pressing charges against Sonny, and he says, yeah and he agreed. She says, now she knows how he got on the radio, and he laughs. He says, it’s over now. He got sick of hearing his own voice and some of his listeners told him they thought he sounded phony when he quoted the Bible. He was terribly offended until he listened to himself. She says, was it bad? and he says he has no standing and no business telling anybody how to live their life. He thinks that came through. He has a lot of work to do on himself, and it’s probably best he takes care of that before he presumes to shepherd a flock. She says, he seems different, at least more thoughtful, and he says he prays that he is. She says, now that he’s taken Nina Reeves payoff, would he consider pressing charges against Sonny?

Brook says she can’t believe how nervous she was talking money with Chase, and he says, she’ll get better with practice. Besides, he thinks they’re going to be having that talk every few years. She asks if he thinks they’ll change their minds, decide they want to buy all the trucks, and he says he’s pretty confident in saying no to that, but money changes. Banks close, markets crash, opportunities come up that weren’t there before. She says, they’ll cross those bridges when they get to them, and maybe they’ll buy them if they want to, but for now, they’re good. He says, she was nervous about having the money talk because of his fragile male ego, wasn’t she? Because if the shoe was on the other foot and he had the millions, he doesn’t think she’d like living off his money either. She says, probably not, and he says, that’s all he needed to hear. She says, he should have told her sooner; she would have said it sooner. He asks if they can be done with this money is a ruinous burden talk, and she says, yes, yes, a thousand times yes. He says he wants her to give him one practical good thing that money brings them, and she says orthodonture. Their kids are going to have beautiful teeth. He laughs.

Anna asks why Brennan thinks they should pass on Heller. He just said Dex was extremely qualified. He says, there’s some things the intake test can’t catch, and she says, for example? He says, Heller made a wrong turn in his life and he’s trying to make up for it, and she says, Brennan thinks Dex is trying to make up for the time he spent working for Corinthos. He says, yes, and penance is the wrong motivation for becoming a cop. When there’s a guy with a gun holed up somewhere, the cops who have something to atone for are the ones who run in too soon too fast. A lot of times, they don’t come out. She says, got it, and thanks him for the update and insight. He says, no problem, and leaves.

Cyrus says he doesn’t know if reinstating charges against Sonny would serve justice or not, and Laura says she saw him when he was lying in that hospital bed. He was unconscious, but that man could have killed him with his bare hands. He says, but he didn’t, thank the good Lord, and she says, yes, thank God, but she heard that Sonny wasn’t able to use his hand for more than a week. Cyrus says, but he was responsible for the circumstances that made his beating happen, and she asks what he means. He says, by dishonest means, he came to know certain things about Nina. And he followed Sonny into that church knowing full well how his ill begotten knowledge would hurt him, and he haunted Sonny with it. He knew the pain would make him crazy and it did. She says, so he goaded Sonny into a rage, and he says, yes. And he knew, even as his own blood was flowing down his face, he had won. With every blow, he had more leverage over Sonny, and it disgusts him. Everything he’s ever done involving Sonny disgusts him. It’s been so long, he doesn’t even know what it was he wanted from Sonny to begin with. But that night, it had to do with revenge. She thanks him for admitting all that to her, and says, but he still didn’t deserve to be beaten like that. He says, maybe he didn’t, but maybe he did. Maybe it would be good for Sonny to go away for a while. He doesn’t know. She says, well, she does, and he says, then he’ll let himself be guided by her, but she says, no. She can’t tell him what to do here. He has to decide this for himself. He says, what an irony. The one time he didn’t ask for it, he holds Sonny’s fate in his hands.

Tomorrow, Finn tells Dante that Chase’s bachelor party went sideways, and he doesn’t know what to do; Cyrus goes to see Anna; Michael tells Josslyn that they should keep an eye on that guy; John says, it’s time he finally gave Carly something in return; and Lois says, it wouldn’t be complete without Sonny.

I was surprised that this was the most difficult scene for him, since Jason got socked with a lot of surprises.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jason waits in the interrogation room when Sam walks in and sits across from him. Because, like the hospital, the PCPD plays fast and loose with security.

Danny opens the door to the boathouse and sees it’s empty. Jake asks if he’s looking for something.

Trina finds Josslyn at the courthouse and says, she went looking for her at the dorm. When she saw Josslyn wasn’t in their room, she figured she’d find her here. Josslyn says, it’s nice to hear Trina call it their room, even though she’s not living there right now. Trina asks if it’s okay if she sits, and Josslyn says, of course (🍷). Is she here to make sure Jason gets the book thrown at him? Trina says she’s actually not here for Jason. She’s here for Josslyn.

In the courtroom, Molly goes through her documents and drops them. She starts to pick them up, when Kristina comes in and helps. Molly says she wasn’t sure if she’d see Kristina today, but Kristina says, is Molly kidding her? A chance to support her sister. Molly is looking the part. Molly says, at least she’s got that going for her, and Kristina says, and a million other things. Don’t sell herself short. Molly says she thinks she’s shaking, and Kristina takes her hand and says, breathe. It has to be tough, prosecuting someone who means so much to her. Molly says, tough would be a cakewalk. This feels nearly impossible.

Sam asks if Jason did it. Did he shoot Dante? He says, no, and she says she believes him. He says, there’s something else. It’s about Danny. She says, what about Danny? and he says, after he was shot, he hid out at the boathouse and Danny found him. She says, so he’s seen Danny? and he says, yeah. Danny helped him. He got a first aid kit from the main house and brought it down to the boathouse. She says she’s a little confused. Why didn’t Danny tell her that he saw Jason? He says he told Danny not to.

Danny asks if Aiden’s here too, but Jake says, he’s up at the main house. Danny says, why? and Jake says, why is Aiden at the main house or why are they here? Danny says, the second one, and Jake says, his mom figured if they’re all staying home to see the arraignment, they might as well all stay together. But he assumes it will go pretty quickly. They’ll see dad shot Dante, they’ll decide he’s guilty, and he won’t be granted bail. Danny says, first of all, that’s not how arraignments work. Second of all, what makes him so sure that dad’s guilty?

Molly tells Kristina, her main job today is to remain impartial. How is she supposed to argue that Jason is some awful murderer after all the history they have together? His years with Sam. He’s Danny’s father. How does she do that? Kristina says, that’s the other reason she’s here, and Molly says she thought Kristina was here for moral support. Kristina says, of course (🍷) she is. That’s what she’s here for first and foremost. Also, Molly can’t give in to her soft spot for Jason. He’s guilty. Molly asks, says who? and Kristina says, her father for starters. She saw him the last couple of times she visited Dante, and he didn’t want to believe it at first, but there’s evidence linking Jason to the warehouse shooting. So obviously, Dante followed him and that’s when Jason shot him. Molly asks if it’s obvious to Sonny or Kristina, because it certainly isn’t obvious to the police or to the DA’s office or to her personally. Kristina asks why they’d be charging Jason if they didn’t think he did it, and Molly says, there is reasonable suspicion and supporting evidence that Jason shot Dante. But there was also another unidentified individual present, and they’re not sure what part they played, so nothing is obvious. And let’s not forget, in our legal system, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty, no matter what Sonny thinks. Kristina says, that’s exactly what she was afraid of, and Molly says, what? Kristina says, Molly doesn’t want Jason to be guilty so she’s scrambling to come up with a scenario where he’s not. But as hard as this is going to be – and she knows this is going to be hard for Molly – she has to check her feelings at the door and do her job. (Are they having two different conversations?)

On the phone, Anna asks what Portia’s professional opinion is… She knows she’s not family, but she’s really worried… Okay. She appreciates that. She thanks Portia for the update and says she’ll call her back. Dex comes in, and she asks him to close the door. He does and asks if that was about Dante. How is he? She says, he’s the same, and Dex says, his family must be going out of their minds. Anna says, waiting is a special kind of torture. She appreciates him coming in. He says he assumes this is about their last conversation. He figured once she thought about it, she’d change her mind about pursuing a case against Sonny, and he’ll still testify against Sonny if that’s what she’s wondering. No matter what it costs. She says, even if it costs him his life?

Anna says, Sonny has resources. He would know Dex intended to testify against him before Dex even took the stand. Dex asks if that’s where she comes in. Is she going to offer him some kind of protection? She says she can authorize that, but it wouldn’t guarantee his safety because Sonny has a way of getting around everything. Dex says, he does, and she says, there’s Witness Protection, but from what she understands, he wants to stay in town. He asks where that leaves him, and she says, not in a courtroom, that’s for sure. She does not want him testifying. He says he doesn’t understand. If she doesn’t want him to testify, what is he doing here? She says, a thought occurred to her, a way he can ensure his own safety. He says he’s listening, and she says, he comes to work for her at the PCPD.

Josslyn and Trina both say, I’m sorry, and Trina says, jinx. Josslyn can’t talk until she says her name… That was a joke… Josslyn. They both laugh, and Josslyn says, clearly, she takes her jinx very seriously. Trina says, obviously, but for real, she is sorry. She was a total B and Josslyn didn’t deserve it. Josslyn says she kind of did deserve it, and Trina asks, why? Josslyn says, of course (🍷) she’s very relieved and happy Jason is alive, but she does really think he’s innocent. That’s her and how she feels, and Trina is more than entitled to feel differently about it. She’s really sorry if she acted like Trina wasn’t. Trina says, apology accepted, and Josslyn says, back at her. Trina tells her that she will say, her attitude wasn’t entirely about Jason being a suspect in her father’s shooting, and Josslyn says, what was it? Trina says she was… still is having a hard time with the unfairness that Jason got to come back, while Spencer’s still gone.

Molly says, thank you so much, and Kristina says she’s getting the sense Molly doesn’t mean that. Molly says she just doesn’t need Kristina coming in here moments before the arraignment to tell her something that not only she already knows, but she’s struggling with in real time. Because it’s so nice to be Kristina, right? With her advice and her nuggets of wisdom, sitting all cozy in the back of the courthouse, while Molly actually has to make the argument why somebody she loves and respects and probably has an explanation for what he did, shouldn’t make bail. Kristina says, that’s a valid point, multiple points actually, and Molly thanks her. Kristina says, Molly is an excellent lawyer. She’s also the most ethical person Kristina knows. She’s sorry. She should have just kept her mouth shut. Molly says, it wouldn’t really track for her, and Kristina says, true. Molly wonders if she can ask Kristina a question. Since when is she so anti-Jason?

Jake tells Danny not to be naïve, and Danny asks what that even means. Jake says, of course (🍷) he’s guilty. The guy took off. Danny says, now he’s the guy? and Jake says, he made them all think he was dead, then came back and shot Dante. If Danny’s waiting for him to be proven innocent, he’ll be waiting forever. Danny says he doesn’t know any of that, and Jake says, Danny doesn’t know dad left them or that they had a memorial service for him? Danny says, that’s the story Jake told himself. Unless Jake’s talked to him, or the police. Did they fill Jake in on all the evidence they’ve collected? Jake says, don’t be stupid, but Danny says, he’s the one being stupid. He’s mad at dad. Danny gets it. So Jake wants him to be guilty. Rocco comes along, and Jake says he doesn’t want any of this. Danny lives with Dante. He’s the best. He’s always fun. He’s always joking around and always has time for everybody. Now he’s lying in a hospital bed because their father put him there. Rocco tells them to stop, and Danny says he loves Dante and Rocco is like a brother to him. He’s barely left the hospital to get updates on his dad. Rocco asks if they can please… Jake asks if Danny is telling Rocco that their dad is innocent, like he doesn’t have enough to deal with already. Obviously, Danny doesn’t care about Dante or Rocco. Danny says, that’s messed up. How does he believing their dad is innocent make him not care about Rocco or Dante? Jake asks why he isn’t mad at Jason, and Danny asks why Jake isn’t giving him the benefit of the doubt. Jake says, because he doesn’t deserve it, and Danny punches him in the face. (Sorry, I thought it was Rocco in the  preview. They look interchangeable.)

Sam says, just so she’s getting this straight, Jason told their son not to tell her that he’d seen him? And he was helping Jason? Jason says, yes, and Sam says she’s Danny’s mother. She’s been raising their son on her own for most of his life. What the hell is wrong with him? Danny is just a kid, a kid that has issues. Jason asks what she means. What kind of issues? She says, don’t do that. Don’t pretend to be a father to him now. She gets up and says, he disappeared, leaving her to pick up the pieces and put their son’s life back together. And she did that, by the way. He doesn’t get to just some out of the sky out of nowhere and tell their son to lie to her, to keep secrets from her, and use him because he’s in trouble. Putting him in a situation where he… My God. Danny could be brought up on federal charges. That is their baby she’s been protecting. Say something. Don’t just sit there. Tell her that he knows she’s right about all of it. He says, she’s right, and she says, he is a danger to their son. Does he hear her? Stay the hell away from Danny. She walks out and the Jason sigh is back.

Dex says, Anna wants him to join the PCPD? and she says, don’t look so shocked. She happens to think that this is inspired. He says, until very recently, he was working on the inside of Sonny’s organization, doing all kinds of illegal things on his orders. She says, exactly. That’s what makes him an asset. He says he almost murdered an old man on Sonny’s orders, and she says she knows it’s hard for him to wrap his head around it. When Mayor Collins offered her this position again, she felt like her past disqualitfied her somehow, but now she realizes the best cops are the ones who know how easy it is to go wrong, because they’ve been there themselves. He says, so it’s fine he’s no better than the criminals she’s trying to put away, and she says, it’s more than fine. She thinks it’s a bonus.

Trina says, this all sounds so irrational, but Josslyn says, not to her. Trina says, every morning, she wakes up and the first thing she thinks is, it’s all a nightmare and Spencer’s still here. And today’s the day she’ll get that call, that they made a mistake and Spencer’s fine. And to see that scenario playing out for Josslyn and her mom and everyone that loves Jason… Josslyn says she knows. Trina wants that to happen for Spencer. It’s okay, he’s just chilling with Netflix. Trina says, so badly, and Josslyn says she’s so sorry. For her, it was different. She knew that Oscar’s death was coming, but she understands. Trina says she knows Josslyn does, and Josslyn says, that kind of grief consumes you. Trina says, and she can’t get out from under it, and Josslyn says, she will. One day, eventually, her time with Spencer, those memories will make her smile. It’s not going to break her heart anymore. Trina says she doesn’t know if she’s there yet, and Josslyn says, no one expects her to be there. Trina says she just misses him so much, in a way she didn’t even know you could miss people. And she feels like she’s gone too. Josslyn says, she very understandably lost her way for a bit, but she’s going to find her way back. Trina says, what if she doesn’t? and Josslyn says, then Trina can reach out her hand and she’ll take it, and they’ll make it through together.

Kristina says she’s not anti-Jason, and Molly says, she’s certainly not pro. Kristina says she guesses she’s not. Don’t look so surprised. Molly says she is. Kristina was literally drugged and five minutes away from being tattooed and sexually assaulted, when Jason carried her out of Dawn of Day. Kristina says she knows and she’ll forever grateful to Jason and to Sam for getting her away from Shiloh. But they don’t know what’s happened in the last couple of years. Jason could be a totally different person now, and the evidence is pointing in that direction. Molly says, evidence is subject to interpretation. That’s the whole point of the trial. The prosecution interprets it one way and the defense interprets it another. Kristina says, and the evidence shows Jason was there when Dante was shot, and Molly says, so just because Sonny believes Jason shot Dante, Kristina believes it too. Kristina says, for her father to go against Jason is a big deal and Molly knows that. So she’s inclined to believe him. Molly tells her to be careful who she talks like this around, and Kristina asks what she’s talking about. Molly says, Danny, their nephew. She knows she has to have a talk with him after today, explain that she’s just doing her job. Kristina can believe whatever she wants, but Jason is still Danny’s father. Kristina says, please. Dante has been more of a father than Jason has been or ever will be.

Diane goes into the interrogation room and tells Jason that she saw Sam leaving. She’d ask how that went, but she hates talking to herself. Let’s focus on your case. They have a hero cop in the hospital on life support, and chances are getting smaller and smaller every day that he’ll wake up to exonerate Jason. They have a DA with a working and perfectly reasonable theory that Jason shot said cop without realizing who he was. Then Jason realized it and tried to save him. Too little too late. Jason knows that’s not true. She knows that’s not true. So how do they get the rest of the world on board? Give her something she can use. Does he have an alibi? Is there a timeline? Is there someone she can call who will say, nope, Jason didn’t shoot Dante? Is there anything he can give her. Please. He says he can’t.

Rocco and Jake continue to fight, while Rocco continues to shout at them to stop. Jake knocks Danny down with a punch, and Rocco says, they’re family. They can’t do this to each other. Jake says he can’t with this, and walks off. Rocco says he’s really sorry and runs after Jake. Danny lies down on the deck.

Josslyn asks Trina to tell her something about their time together in Paris, and Trina says, like what? Josslyn says, anything. After Oscar died, nobody wanted to talk to her about him. Probably because they didn’t want to upset her, but she felt the opposite. She wanted to talk about him and wanted to relive their times together. Trina says, yes. That’s the perfect way to describe it. Josslyn says, so tell her something about Paris, and Trina says, it’s the happiest she’s ever been. Josslyn says she bets Spencer would say the same, and Trina says she thinks so too. Josslyn says, it doesn’t get more romantic than the City of Lights, and Trina says, no, it was more than that. Their ease at being together. They found the perfect rhythm with paradise as their backdrop. She felt more like herself in Paris with Spencer than she ever has before. Josslyn says, it sounds so special, and Trina says, it was, until it wasn’t. Josslyn suggests staying with the was, and Trina says, okay. Josslyn says she’s so grateful Trina got that time with him and that the time with him was so incredibly special. Trina says she’s grateful too, and Josslyn hugs her.

Dex says, Anna seems to be under the impression that he needs this job, and she says, doesn’t he? He says he’s ex-military. He’s been through his share of close calls and here he is, still standing. She says, he’s just been at the police station twice in two days, not clandestinely either. He says, so? and she says, so what makes him think that Sonny doesn’t already suspect him of being a turncoat? It’s fine. If he wants to go it alone, he’s welcome to, but she feels that the PCPD could offer him some cover. Think about it. He says he will, and goes to the door. She says, don’t take too long. Time is not on his side.

Molly tells Kristina that she keeps remembering when they decorated Sam and Jason’s apartment for Valentine’s Day. She hasn’t thought about it in years, but she can remember it like it was yesterday. Kristina wonders if they can really call that decorating. More like an absolute flooding of Valentine’s Day bling all over that place. Molly says, come on. It was beautiful. Kristina says, it was. It was also pink. A little red, but a lot of pink. Kristina says, so not Jason’s style. Candles and flowers. But it was Jason’s fault. Kristina says, it totally was. He gave them an insane budget to work with and they were so young. Of course (🍷) they were going to go full out. Molly says she just remembers thinking it was the most romantic thing he did for Sam, and Kristina says, it was romantic. It was also a really long time ago. Things change. People change. Molly says, how much? and Kristina says, a lot sometimes. She thinks Molly needs to face the fact that the Jason who came home might not be the Jason they remember. Molly says, okay. She’ll consider the possibility if Kristina considers the possibility that maybe, just maybe, she’s got this all wrong.

Jason says he wishes he could give Diane what she needs, but he can’t, and she says, they’ve known each other a long time, haven’t they? He says, they have, and she says she’s sure he’s recognized that very often she makes things sound worse than they are, so she looks like even more of a genius when she pulls off a victory at the end. But this is not that case. If Dante dies, it’s murder one. That’s as bad as it gets. The state of New York doesn’t have a death penalty, but if he’s convicted, he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison. He’s her favorite client. Difficult in his own way, absolutely, but she’d hate to see him get put away for life for something he didn’t do, especially since they just got him back. So if there’s anything at all that can help her help him – anything – he’s got her number. She leaves.

Brook comes through the revolving door to the interrogation room, and Jason says, Brook Lynn. She says, surprise. She’s guessing she’s not who he expected to see here. He says, not really, no, and she says she knows the desk sergeant. He let her in. She’s soon to be marrying one of the detectives. She sits down, and he says, congratulations. She thanks him and says she’s sorry. She doesn’t know why this is so awkward. She’s usually so good at small talk, but it’s tripping her up for some reason. He says, why doesn’t she just start with why she’s here? She says, Monica asked if she could come. She wanted Brook to give him this. She slides an envelope across the table, and he sees his name written on it.

Sam goes to the boathouse and says, Jake told her that she’d find Danny here. Danny asks if he said anything else, and she says, he just looked a little worse for the wear. She sees his face and says, ouch. Does it hurt? He says, not really, and she asks why he’d get in a fight with his brother. (Like that never happens.) He says, Jake kept saying dad was guilty and it really pissed him off, and she says she just saw him. He says, dad? and she says, yeah. He told her that he was here, and Danny was helping him. He says, she’s mad, and she says she’s furious, but not at him. What his father did was completely unfair. It’s not his fault he did what his father asked him to do, but he’s to never do that again, okay? He says, mom… but she says, ever. He says he wanted to help his dad, and she says she’s sure he did. Danny says, it’s not like dad asked him to rob a bank or anything. He just needed some bandages, so Danny got him a first aid kit. She says, listen to her. A, Jason involved him in a situation where he’s wanted by the FBI and the PCPD. And B – this is the worst part for her – he told Danny to lie to her, to keep a secret from her. It’s not okay under any circumstances, but when there are criminal charges flying around… She never thought she would actually say this about his father, but that did it for her. Any trust between her and Jason has been broken.

Anna comes into her office to find Robert there. She asks if they had a meeting, and he asks if a man has to make an appointment to meet with his ex-wife these days. She says, when he’s the DA and his ex-wife is the Commissioner. She has a lot on her plate these days. He says, why doesn’t she try delegating sometime? and she says, it’s okay. What is this about? He says he’ll be quick. He’s here to make a confession. She asks what he’s confessing to, and he says he’s a big, fat coward.

Molly says she doesn’t want to fight about this, and Kristina asks if Molly thinks she does. Molly says she wishes Kristina was less focused on the arraignment and more focused on her health, and Kristina says, she means the baby’s health. Molly asks if they’re not the same thing. Stress of any kind is not good for a pregnancy. So if Kristina really came to support her – Kristina says she did – then the best thing she can do is just go home. Kristina says she sees. Is that an order, ADA Lansing-Davis?

Trina thanks Josslyn, and Josslyn says, for what? Trina says, being a best friend when she knows Josslyn could use one right now, and Josslyn says she’s fine. Trina says, liar. What’s going on between her and Dex? Josslyn says, not much, and Trina asks if they’ve spoken since they broke up, but Josslyn says, no. He’s called her a few times, but she’s not ready to talk to him. Trina says, what about Josslyn? She still doesn’t know what happened, although she has the impression that it has something to do with Dex working for Sonny. Josslyn says, yes, it does, and that’s all she can say about it without compromising him. Trina says, then she must still care for him, and Josslyn says, of course (🍷) she does. She thinks she always will, but she also feels like she never really knew him. Trina says she’s sorry. That’s a horrible feeling. Josslyn says, anyway, she’s fine. She loves Trina for showing up here, but she doesn’t need to stay. Trina says she has nothing better to do. She lives at home and she’s not in school. Josslyn says, she has the gallery, and Trina says, but not today. So she doesn’t mind staying a little longer and hanging out. On second thought – Josslyn turns around and Dex is there – she thinks Josslyn should spend some time alone. Josslyn and Dex soap look at each other.

Trina says, so thanks for the talk. She’ll call Josslyn later. Josslyn thanks her, and Trina leaves, smiling at Dex as she passes him. Dex says, hi, and Josslyn says, hi. What is he doing here? He says he had an appointment, and she says, really? In the Hall of Justice complex? With whom? He asks if she got his messages, and she says, nice dodge. Yeah, she got them. He says he didn’t like how they left things, and she says, speaking of leaving, she thought he left town. He says, thought or hoped? He’s really sorry he let her down. She asks why he’s still here in Port Charles, and he says he thinks he was just given a reason to stay.

Molly says she knows better than to issue Kristina an order and she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to imply Kristina was putting the baby at risk. She knows Kristina never would. Just like Kristina knows she would never let her personal feelings influence her work. Kristina laughs and says, well played, sister. Molly says, if Kristina doesn’t mind, she has a little bit of time left, and she would like to prepare her argument against releasing Jason on bail. Not because of anything Kristina said, but because it’s her civic duty.

Robert says, Anna knows it’s Jason Morgan’s arraignment today, and she says she thought he told her that this wasn’t going to take up too much of her time. He says, it won’t. Normally, it would be up to him to argue against bail, but in this particular case, he thought he’d let Molly Lansing-Davis do it. She says, so he doesn’t look like the bad guy in Robin’s eyes. He’s going to let his ADA do his dirty work because he’s scared of his daughter. He says, that’s it in a nutshell, yeah, and she says she envies him. He says, she does? and she says she doesn’t have the luxury of not investigating Jason. Sadly, that is not an option for her, but it is an option for him, and she wholly supports him taking it. He says, it doesn’t bother her that he’s a coward for ducking out on the arraignment? and she says she thinks he’s a wonderful coward… She means, father.

Jason picks up the envelope, and asks if Monica is sick or hurt, and Brook says, both, but she’s okay. He knows how that driveway is; it always gets so icy. Monica took a pretty bad fall right before Christmas. She’s been in a wheelchair ever since, but she’s still considering going to work. He says, sounds like her, and Brook says, she picked up a bug at the hospital. Nothing serious, but the doctors don’t want her to push herself or she would be at the arraignment. He opens the envelope and takes out a handwritten note: Jason, I believe in you. Love, Mom. An officer comes in and says, ten minutes and he really needs to get the prisoner downstairs, and Brook thanks him. She tells Jason, good luck at the arraignment, and goes to the door. Wiping his eyes, Jason says, tell her that he loves her and he’s sorry, and Brook says, he’s got it.

Sam comes out of the boathouse with something in a plastic bag and tells Danny that she found this in the freezer. She has him hold it against his head and he says, thanks. How’s Dante? She says, no change, and he asks if she thinks… She says, what is it? Say something. He says, nothing, but she says, it’s obviously something. Talk to her. He says, Dante knows he loves him, right? and she says, yes. Of course (🍷) he does. He says, and that he really appreciates Dante and sees everything Dante does for him? She says, yeah. Why would he think Dante wouldn’t? He says he doesn’t know. Just making sure. She says she’s so sorry, and he says, for what? She says, his father coming home and being alive should be the most wonderful, amazing experience, not this. She doesn’t know if she’s changed or Jason’s changed or she’s never been able to see him clearly, but it’s just become obvious to her that she can’t rely on him to protect Danny and have his best interests at heart. She just wants him to know that she’s his mother and she’ll do everything in her power to keep him safe. And she loves him so much. He says he loves her too, and she takes his hand. She says, they’re going to get through this together because they have each other. She hugs him and says, he’s never going to have to see his dad again, okay? But from the look on his face, it’s not okay.

Tomorrow, Sam needs Portia to stop something from happening; Carly wants to know what Michael isn’t telling her; Josslyn tells Kristina that her father is wrong about everything; and Sonny says he doesn’t owe Jason anything.

🐶 Doggy Style…

I’m well aware I’m late to the party here. I’d wanted to see Strays when it was playing at the movie theater, but didn’t get the chance. Being caught up in several series on Netflix, I put it off when it came to Prime, but I recently watched it and I loved it so much. It has more crude language than a Quentin Tarantino film, but hearing it come out of the mouths of dogs, cats, and an eagle, makes it hysterically funny somehow. It’s now going to be on constant rotation for me, because it’s also one of those movies that left me smiling without taking me on a trip to the cornfield. I don’t need a Friday the 13th ending, but the worst is a horror film that has a Hallmark ending or ends up being a PSA for the environment. (Yes, I’m talking to you Mother! That’s 2 hours and 1 minute I will never get back.) Besides causing me to literally lol, Strays has a stellar cast, a heartfelt message, and of course, dogs.

Fear the Walking Dead

A tumbleweed blows by. Alicia marches down a road leading a small group of people. She hears, Padre, and sees a zombie up ahead. She asks what they said, and tells them, I’m talking to you. There’s a high pitched sound that makes everyone cover their ears. Alicia runs after the figure, and hears, Padre, again. The figure turns around, and it’s the zombie who bit her. He attacks her, and gets her on the ground. She hears, follow me… She opens her eyes, and Beethoven’s Ode to Joy is blasting so loud, the chandelier is rocking. She realizes she has earplugs in, and takes them out. She grabs her steampunk arm, and heads downstairs. She asks if someone is there, and sees the door banging open and shut. She closes and locks it. She sees bloody footprints, and follows them. A man sitting at a piano, and she yells at him to turn the music off. She tries reaching for the volume control, but it’s on a shelf that’s too high for her. The zombie making the footprints comes up behind the man, and Alicia yells to him, then knocks the stereo off the shelf. He fights the zombie, and stabs it in the eyeball. He asks Alicia, what did you do? and she passes out. He picks up the broken stereo, and says, what did you do?

Alicia wakes up, and sees the man back at the piano. She asks how she got here, but he doesn’t turn around. She gets up, and says she’s talking to him. She taps his shoulder with her not-really-an-arm, and he whips around. He says, easy, and she asks if he can hear her. He says, no. He hasn’t heard a thing in months. She asks, what’s going on? How did she get here? He tells her, speak slower so he can read her lips, and she asks, how long has she been out? He says, two days, and she asks how she got here. He says he brought her here. He was coming back from a food run, and found her passed out in a barn two miles north. He checked her, and saw what was left of her arm. That’s quite a statement. She says she got bit, and wasn’t going to let him take it. He says he figured that was why, and that she would have turned by now. It didn’t look infected, but she was still burning up. Why is she idling so hot; is she sick? She says, that’s not it, and she wasn’t in a barn. She remembers she was on her way back to the people she was staying with. She must have passed out, but she wasn’t in a barn. A girl saved her. He says, maybe the girl got her to the barn, and asks what she’s running from. She says she appreciates his help, but she has to go. People are counting on her. He says, her dad? She said, padre. She says she must have been confused, and starts to go, but he says, hold on. She broke his stereo. She can at least help him fix it. She says she has to go, but bumps into the doorframe, and he says, she’s in no shape to go anywhere. He introduces himself as Paul, and says, she never answered his question about her fever. He hands her a bottle of medication, and she says, it’s a long story. He says, she can do better than that. She’s still breathing because of him. She says she returned the favor. He was drawing the zombies with the loud music. He says, there’s a lock on the door, and the entire house is soundproofed. She says she thought he couldn’t hear, and he says, when Beethoven was going deaf, he destroyed every piano by pounding on it. Just because you can’t hear the music, doesn’t mean you can’t feel it. She points at some bagpipes, and asks, what about those? but he says he doesn’t play them. She hears a horse outside, and asks him to hide her. He can’t know she’s here. Paul asks, who is he? There’s a knock at the door, and Paul opens it to Arno, who’s wearing his mask. Paul asks if there’s something he can help with, and Arno says, he’s looking for somebody. Paul says he can’t hear sh*t. Arno will have to show his face, but there’s been nothing dangerous in the wind for weeks. Arno takes off his mask, and says he’s looking for someone; a woman. Paul says he’s out of luck. There’s no one here but him. Zombies are reaching through a tarp over a cage in the back of a wagon, and Paul asks, what’s that? but Arno ignores him, walking past him and inside, along with his men. Paul tells Arno that he didn’t say he could come in, and Arno picks up the bottle of medication, asking if Paul is sick. Paul tells them to get out of his house, and Arno says, the girl he’s looking for gets fevers. She’s been bitten, and lost part of her arm, but she didn’t turn. She’s still walking around. Paul says he ain’t seen her, and Arno says, she’s not considerate. She has a habit of getting people hurt. Paul asks what Arno wants with her, and Arno says, that’s between them. He plays a scale on the piano, but hits a dead key. He asks Paul what the problem is, and we see the problem is Alicia hiding inside the piano, but Paul says they’re broken. Arno hits them a few times and says, all right then. If Paul sees her, give him a call. He gives Paul a walkie, and looks at a photo on his way out. He says, a deaf musician; ain’t that a bitch. He tells Paul that he appreciates his time, and leaves. Paul watches as the Stalkers drive their wagons off.

Paul makes something on the stove, and asks Alicia what Arno wants with her. Is it true what he said? Is she getting folks hurt? She says, they lived in the same place. Things went bad, and he blamed her. He asks if Arno is right to blame her, and she says, they had to abandon the place, since the blast had compromised the structure. He asks, where is that? and serves her a bowl of whatever he’s making. He says she seems nice enough to him. Then again, he may just be grateful for the company. She takes a bite, and he sees her face, and says, she’s never had haggis. The Scottish always kept cans in the pantry. He had the same reaction when he first tried it, but he grew to like it. When he was scavenging, he was surprised at how easy it was to find. Grocery stores were picked clean save for that stuff. Alicia says, Rowan. Is she…? He says, his wife, and she asks, what happened? He says, the bombs did. He lost her and what was left of his hearing the same day. Alicia says she’s sorry, and he says, so is he. He’s leaving at dawn to find a stereo. She says she really does have to go, but he says, she can’t leave. She says she’s not the person he thinks she is, but he says she has to be. Why is she in such a hurry? She tells him, what Arno said is true. People got hurt, and she doesn’t want that to happen to him. Paul asks, what happened? Why is that guy after her? She says, it doesn’t matter, and he asks, what does? She says, lives are at stake, and he says, so is his. If she leaves him without finding a stereo, he’s as good as dead. Help him get what he wants, and he’ll make sure she gets back in one piece. She says she doesn’t know where to find a stereo, but he says he does.

They go to a concert hall, and Paul asks how Alicia wound up bit. She says, the same way most people do; trying to get out of a bad situation. He asks if it has something to do with Padre. She was talking about it in her dreams. It must have meant something. She says, it’s a place she thought she could take everyone where they would be safe, and he says, and people died along the way. That’s why Arno is after her? What’s the new plan? She says, there’s a new place, or there will be. The person running it is trying hard to keep people out. She tried to get Arno and his people to fight with them. He says, it looks like she didn’t convince them, and she tells him, he said she shouldn’t lead anyone. He’s probably right. Paul says, so it didn’t work out. Big deal. She tried. She says, people died, but he says, she didn’t put a gun to their head and force them to follow her. They followed her for a reason. She says, she thought it was the way to go, and he says, and she did. Why beat herself up about it? Beethoven’s Ninth Concerto was the last concert they had here. When it premiered, Beethoven said he couldn’t conduct it himself because he was deaf. When it ended, the house went nuts and gave him a standing ovation. The story goes, because he was unaware of it, a young contralto spun Beethoven around, so he could see how they loved what they’d heard. Alicia asks what instrument Paul played, and he says, piano. Rowan played the violin. He got her the bagpipes for her 40th birthday, and learned to play them himself, part of his Scottish education. It was her dream to play Ode to Joy on the bagpipes, but she never played it. His hearing had started going, and she thought he would hear it because the bagpipes are so loud. Alicia asks, why didn’t she play it? and Paul says, he told her that’s not how it’s meant to be played, but really, he was so damn mad at the world going quiet, he took it out on her. Alicia says, he doesn’t have to go back and live alone, but he says, what else is he going to do? She says, come with her and her friends. The more people they have, the sooner they can take that place. She hears a horse, and he says, what’s wrong? She tells him, wait here, and goes outside. Why she reveals herself in this way is beyond me, but she sees Arno’s mini convoy, and a gun is cocked near her head. Arno says he knew he would find her here, and she says, she’s not alone. He says he figured that too, and yells, come out. That’s right, he can’t hear them. He looks at Alicia and shakes his head, saying, she never learns. Did she promise him somewhere safe to go? She says she thought Padre would work, and he says, tell them. One of his men removes the tarp from the cage, and reveals the zombie. She tells Arno that he’s insane, but he says, she’s the one who asked them to find Vazquez so he could lead them. How’d that go? She says, he should put them to rest, and he says he was going to, but he thought it would be more fun to let them punish her for what she did. His men drag her to the wagon.

Arno clanks Alicia’s arm part against the cage bars, and says, they’re dead because she said she knew the way. It seems only fair that she join them. She’s already halfway there. He unlocks the cage, when Paul shoots him in the hand. It’s too late though, and the zombies are released. Paul shoots, and Alicia grabs her arm part. Arno is like, waah, my hand! and Paul runs out of bullets. As he struggles to put more in the gun, he drops the stereo and it breaks. Alicia gets in a vehicle, and calls to him. He hesitates getting in, and says, he can fix it. She grabs him, and pulls him in, but he says he has to get it back. She says, it’s just a stereo, and he says, it’s the only thing that can drown it out; her voice. She was on her way back when it happened. She was so scared, and he tried to calm her. He told her it would be okay, and to stay on the radio with him. Then the warhead came crashing down with a horrible high-pitched sound while she screamed. Then everything went quiet. The last thing he ever heard was her scream; his Rowan. He couldn’t go on hearing it. Alicia couldn’t possibly understand. Alicia says she can, and he says, how? She says she has a voice she can’t get rid of either; the one from her dream. He says, what dream? and she says the one she’s had for months, that she keeps having. She thought Padre was a place she could take everyone. The first time she had the dream was after she got bit. She didn’t know if she’d cut off her arm in time. She was out for days, and when her fever was spiking, she had the dream; the most vivid dream she’d ever had. Paul says, about what? and she says, a walker; she was following it. We see her running, and she says, not just her, all of them too. She finally caught up, and the walker turned around. It was the same walker that bit her. He talked to her, and said, Padre, but it wasn’t his voice. He told her to follow him to Padre, so she did, or it’s what she’s been trying to do. She made all these people believe in her. She told them that she knew what she was doing and where she was going, and she didn’t. It was just a dream. He says, they must have had a reason, and she says, they died because of her. Now that voice is all she can hear every time she closes her eyes; every time she manages to fall asleep. He asks if she’s serious about what she said to him; him coming with her and helping with the place she’s trying take over. He’d like to take her up on it. She asks, why? and he says, something tells him there’s a reason he came across her. Maybe they can help each other drown out what they don’t want to hear. Alicia says she couldn’t get him a stereo, and he says, he’s got one right here, but she tells him, stay away. She can’t let him get hurt. Arno won’t stop until she’s dead. He’ll go to Paul’s house and hurt him. Paul says, that’s why he needs to be ready for Arno. Does she trust him? She nods, and he takes out the walkie. He says, if Arno is listening, if Arno can hear him, he’s sorry about the mishap earlier. Alicia turned on him too. The problem Arno has, Paul is ready to help solve. Come to his house after dark.

Paul sets up the stereo (which I guess he fixed?) and Alicia says, he doesn’t have to. He says, the sooner he helps her take out Arno, the sooner she can get back and stop punishing herself for what’s not her fault. She says, even with Arno gone, the voice won’t go. He says, maybe not, but maybe it’s not meant to be silenced. She tells him, but he said… and he says, he told her, it would drown out what they didn’t want to hear, but maybe she should listen. His old man was a helluva pianist; he was known as Texas Gershwin. His brother followed in their father’s footsteps, and Paul started taking lessons. He wanted to be like his father and brother, but when he did, the teacher would smack his hands with a yardstick. She asks, why? and he says, nobody makes great music imitating others. It has to come from you. Maybe that’s why it didn’t work before. Alicia thought somebody else was telling her what to do. Maybe the voice is her; so listen to it. If she doesn’t, she might regret it. He looks at the bagpipes, and says he owes it to himself and anyone who wants his help. Arno yells that he knows they’re in there, and Alicia tells Paul, they’re here. He gives her earplugs to put in, and says, it’s going to get loud. Arno and his man knock on the windows, and Arno whistles. He says he know Alicia is in there. Where is she? Come out. Paul hooks up the stereo. Arno tries the door, finds it locked, and sighs. He says, come out before she gets someone else hurt. Suddenly, Ode to Joy starts blasting, and Paul shoots at them. No surprise, zombies pop out of everywhere. Arno yells for his men to fall back, but it’s too late. Paul shoots the zombies wandering into the house until he runs out of bullets. Alicia starts smashing zombie heads with her pseudo arm, and Paul whacks them with whatever he can find. Alicia says, Arno is coming in through the back, and sure enough, they sneak in. Paul whacks one in the head with a guitar, but Alicia says, there are too many. I’m not quite sure if she’s referring to the zombies or Arno’s guys, or both. Arno kills off some zombies, and Paul grabs the bagpipes. The electricity goes out, and Arno points his gun at Paul. A zombie grabs Arno, but he gets off a shot anyway, hitting Paul. Alicia grabs Paul, and hustles him into another room. She looks at his wound, and tells him, it’s going to be okay. Where they’re going, they have medical supplies. He says, it’s too late, but she says, it’s not; they’ll get out. He says, she will, and she says she’s not leaving without him. He laughs, and says she doesn’t have a choice. Alicia says he’s in this position because of her. She said she’d take him somewhere safe… He says he would have followed her anyway, and so will they. Her friends… her people. What her dream is telling her is that they’re the ones she’d meant to lead. She tries to get him to come, but he says she just needs to believe in what she’s capable of. She says she doubted someone she cared about, and won’t make that mistake again. Zombies start to scrabble at the door, and they hear gunshots. He tells her to go, but she says she won’t make it past Arno. He says, she will if they can’t hear her. Arno knocks at the door, and says, she can’t stay in there forever. Paul starts to play Ode to Joy on the bagpipes, and Alicia cuts out the back. Paul sees her running past through the window, and Arno comes in. He points his gun at Paul, who doesn’t even turn around, although there are tears in his eyes. Alicia runs down the road through the woods as we hear the gunshot. She runs until she sees a hooded, masked little girl. She stops, and says, you again? Are you okay? The girl says she will be, and Alicia lies down in the road. The girl says, if you can help me, maybe I can help you. Alicia closes her eyes.

Alicia walks in a windy, ochre landscape. She sees a figure in the distance, and says, hey. A man’s voice says, Padre, but as she gets closer, she sees it’s a woman. A woman’s voice says, Padre. Follow me. She stops, and the figure turns. It’s her, and she tells herself, Padre. Follow me. Behind her are a group of people, including the little masked girl. Alicia says, Morgan… Morgan says, Alicia. Wake up. She opens her eyes.  

Morgan says, it’s okay. She’s all right. She asks how long she was out, and he says she showed up last night, but collapsed before they could get her inside. He puts a cool cloth on her forehead, and says, they’ve got to keep her fever down. She says, where is she? and he asks, who? She says, that girl; the one who brought her here. He says, she was alone… What is it? Is she all right? How did it go with Arno? Did she convince him to join them? She says she’s sorry. She knows they don’t have enough people to take on Victor. He says, they’ll find another way, and she says she thinks she has one.

Morgan asks why she thought a walker could lead them to Padre. She’s not too much on a straight answer to a straight question. She says she had a dream when she was in the bunker after she’d cut her arm off. The fever was at its worst, and she heard a voice. She thought it was saying a walker would lead them, and she thought it was coming from Padre. He asks who it was coming from, and she says, herself. Her mom, Nick, and Morgan all had a dream, but she never stopped to listen to her own voice. She is now. He asks where she’s going, and she says, the bunker has a transmitter. She doesn’t think Padre even exists, but a lot of people are looking for it, or a place like it. He says, she can’t lead them to a place that doesn’t exist, but she says she can lead people to them. They can become Padre, and give them what they want; a safe place to live. And that’s how they’ll take the tower. Morgan asks if she wants him to come, but she says she needs him to stay. When she comes back, they’ll make their move. He says, then he’ll be ready when she gets back, but she should rest. She says she can’t. Just be ready. She leaves.

Stalker Sage drives the wagon, the cage now empty except for a whining Arno. Sage stops the wagon, and Arno wails that he’s going to die if his hand isn’t treated. Sage says, they don’t have time, and tells Arno to look. Arno gets out, and they stand by the edge of a canyon filled with zombies. Sage says, the herd must have fell in. They’ve been stewing down there for months. Arno asks, how many? and Sage says, too many. If one of them gets out, they won’t be going anywhere. Arno says, we need to take the tower for ourselves.  

Next time, Morgan needs to protect the sub, Charlie gets herself trapped, June says Howard is a monster, and it looks like Charlie will be having a love interest (see below).

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Going along with how the rest of the week has been, I missed the beginning, so here are the takeaway points. Avery told Carly that her favorite necklace was missing, and Carly reminded Avery that she’d taken it to have it fixed, but didn’t know when she’d get it back. Carly went to Pizzulo’s where Jason and Sonny were talking about Julian. Trina went to see Josslyn, who was in the kitchen where the notorious bowl of moss lives. Britt tried to call Julian at Charlie’s, and was surprised to find out he hadn’t been in all day. Willow told Michael, it was time to face the truth, and here we are…

Nikolas tells Ava, it’s okay. Back up, and tell him what happened from the beginning. She says Ryan threatened to expose Julian’s part in Wiley’s kidnapping, and Nikolas says, Julian helped? She says no one knew about it, but Nelle left a letter tying Julian to the kidnapping. That’s what Ryan was using to blackmail her into divorcing Nikolas. Julian was scared Sonny would kill him, and Jason came looking for Julian. She always knew her brother would meet a violent end, but she was scared Sonny would make him suffer. She starts to cry, and Nikolas says, that’s why she decided to kill him herself; like a mercy killing. She says she wanted it to be quick. She thinks Julian understood, and he understood he was living on borrowed time. She was about to pull the trigger, when Sonny and Jason burst in. She got distracted for a second, and Julian took the opportunity to jump. Nikolas says, from the turret. It’s an extremely hazardous fall, but she survived. Maybe Julian did too. She says Nikolas was there to save her. Julian – God help him – had no one.   

Chase approaches the reception desk, and asks Britt if he can see the toxicology report on Sasha. She asks if he has a warrant. He says he’s not investigating the patient, but needs to know about the substance they ingested. He asks her to please show him the report.

Sasha tells Nina, she didn’t OD; she had a heart attack. Nina says, at her age, that’s hardly normal, and Sasha admits she’s done a few lines to take the edge off. Nina says, Sasha would rather think she had a heart condition than own up to a drug problem? It scared her when she heard what happened. Even though she’s not Sasha’s mother, she still cares about her, and doesn’t want her to throw away her life like this. Sasha asks if Nina really cares, and Nina says Sasha has her whole life ahead of her. She needs to wake up and do better. Please? Sasha smiles, and thanks Nina, and tells her that she really does appreciate Nina’s concern.

Chase opens Sasha’s door, and says he’s sorry to interrupt, but he needs to speak to Sasha. Nina says she has to go anyway. She just wanted to see that Sasha was all right with her own eyes. If Sasha needs anything at all… Sasha says she still feels like Nina’s daughter. Anyone would be lucky to have her for a mom. Nina leaves, and Chase asks how Sasha is feeling. She says, it depends, and he says, on? She says on whether he’s there as a friend or a cop.

Michael tells Willow that he wants to start by saying how much he’s always admired her. He’s thankful Wiley has her for a mother, and like they’ve both been trying to say, they’ve always been good friends, but lately his feelings have deepened and changed. Willow says she’s been feeling the same way. She thinks they were on the verge of something new, but then they found out Chase and Sasha had lied. Michael says she told him that she didn’t regret what happened, and he flashes back to them basking in the afterglow. She says she doesn’t regret anything, and he says, neither does he. She says, but learning that Chase and Sasha never cheated changes things, doesn’t it? and Michael says, does it?

Trina says her father could be hiding, right? and Josslyn says Trina has been spending all her time clearing her dad’s name, and now she thinks he’s alive? Where is this coming from? Trina says, the more she’s been thinking about it, the more it makes sense. Maybe her dad faked his death, and recovered in secret. It sounds crazy, but she’s starting to believe him. Josslyn asks who told her that her father is still alive? and Trina says, Cyrus. 

Carly tells Sonny, Taggert is just as bullheaded as ever. She had to talk him down from going after Cyrus. He’s not going to stay in hiding much longer. Sonny says he has something to tell her too; Cyrus was just there. She asks, why? and Jason says, damage control. Sonny says, Cyrus confirmed Jason was the target, and Julian was responsible for planting the bomb. That much is true. Carly asks, why would Julian want to take Jason out? and Jason says, Cyrus told him to. Carly wonders why Julian would be taking orders from Cyrus, and Jason says Cyrus had leverage over Julian. Carly says, like what? and Sonny asks if she’s ready for this. Julian knew for months that Wiley was Michael’s son. Carly is speechless, a rarity.

Britt sees Lucas, and ask’s to speak to him. Brad told her Lucas saw him. Brad nearly died, and Lucas wouldn’t even give him the time of day. Lucas says it’s none of her concern, but she says Brad is her best friend. She didn’t expect a warm and fuzzy reconciliation, but she also didn’t expect cruelty. He says she knows what Brad did, and she says, Nelle took advantage of Brad’s grief; he wasn’t in his right mind. Lucas says, Wiley lived in a house with people who weren’t his family, and spent his first pivotal year with people who weren’t his parents. Brad watched Michael suffer for a year, and said nothing. He ultimately only looks out for himself. She says, but Brad didn’t. He pled guilty, and took all the blame. He says, Brad was the only one to blame, but she says, that’s not true.  

Chase tells Sasha, he’s a friend above all, and she says she could use one, but he seemed liked a detective when he came in. He says, maybe that’s because he’d just gotten done checking out the toxicology report. She ingested dextrose amphetamine along with the cocaine, a stimulant on top of a stimulant. Britt spoke to the lab technician, who said she’d never seen a combination like that before. Where did she get the drugs? She says, so he is interrogating her, and he says he’s trying to make sense of this situation. There’s bad stuff out there, and he’s trying to track it down. That she’s using anything makes him feel like crap. He should have seen she was struggling. Sasha tells him, don’t. He tried, and it’s her fault she was using. She’s the one who covered it up. She was coping with losing Michael, and falling down on the job at Deception. One line made her feel like she could handle anything – for the moment anyway. She’s weak. He says she’s not weak. She says she doesn’t regret lying to save Wiley. It was the right thing to do, but Chase has been hurting too, and he kept it together. He says, no, he didn’t. He told Willow the truth. He told her that he and Sasha never slept together; it was all a set-up. She asks, how could he do that?

Willow says she knows Michael stayed with Sasha all night when  she was brought into the hospital. Obviously he’s worried about her. Michael says, Willow is too, and Willow asks if he’s been back since. Have they talked? Michael says, no, and she asks, why? He says he doesn’t want to do the wrong thing. He’s so angry, he doesn’t know what would say.

Carly says, Julian knew? He kept Brad’s secret, and watched Michael suffer and said nothing? That’s what Nelle had over him. That’s why he married her. She knew. Sonny says, Julian was probably the one who kidnapped Wiley when they were at the Nurses Ball telethon. Jason says, he chloroformed Monica so he could take Wiley, and Carly says, bastard. All that talk about his love for Lucas, when he was lying to Lucas’s face, and letting him keep a baby that wasn’t his. She says, please tell her Sonny is going to make him pay, and Jason says, maybe he already did.

Carly says she knew something was up when Nelle trotted Julian out as her husband. Sonny tells her, don’t worry. Nelle is dead, and she can’t hurt them anymore. Carly says, that’s not necessarily true. There’s something she has to tell him. Something about Nelle and Nina. Jason makes a really good soap face.   

Nina meets Jax at the bistro, apologizing for being late. He tells her, it’s okay, but she seems scattered. What’s going on? She says she visited Sasha at the hospital. She’s worried about Sasha. She’s been in pain since she and Michael broke up, and has no one to talk to. Jax says, like her, and Nina says, when she brought Sasha to the penthouse, she knew Sasha was suffering and high. She wishes she could have talked to her then. Jax says he hopes Sasha realizes how lucky she is to have Nina care about her, especially after she lied. Nina says, for a time, she couldn’t even look at Sasha, she was so angry, but seeing her alone and lost, with no one to talk to makes the past unimportant. He says Nina has a generous spirit, and sees the good in people, and she says she’s champion of the underdog, or maybe president of the club. They all make mistakes, some more than others. Now that the truth is out, maybe somehow she and Sasha can find their own honest relationship. He says, if she forgave Sasha, does that mean she forgives Valentin as well?

Ava tells Nikolas, she was up all night, searching for any sign of Julian or his body. That’s why he saw her walking on the cliffs. She’d been there for hours. She’s sorry she didn’t tell him the truth. He says he doesn’t care, but he does need to understand. She and Julian were close. She let herself be blackmailed for him. What made her want to kill him? He’s not trying to making her feel bad. She’s probably better off without Julian complicating her life, but he’s family. Ava says Nikolas is her family. He’s her future. She chose him. He says he chooses her. She can trust him. She says she wants to, and wants to tell him everything, but it’s so bad… She swears she didn’t have anything to do with it. She had no idea whatsoever. He says, just tell him. What did Julian do? She says, he’s the one who planted the bomb in The Floating Rib.  

Lucas asks Britt what this is about. His family is grieving, and his cousin is comatose. His plate is full, and he has no time for her games. She says he forgot to mention his husband was almost stabbed to death. He says, ex-husband, and she says he’s so self-righteous. Brad shouldn’t have shielded him. He lost Wiley, and that’s sad. He lost Brad, and it’s ironic, since if not for Brad, he would have lost more.

Sasha asks Chase why he told Willow. Why blow it at this late date? He says he had to be honest even if it caused more pain. He had to tell Willow that he loved her. Sasha says, so he did this for himself? and he says, for everyone. (We’ll leave out the fact that originally, Sasha was the one who told him to tell Willow the truth.) She says, when did he tell Willow? and he says, the night she was brought in. She asks if he thinks Willow told Michael, and he says he assumes so. She says, maybe that’s why Michael was with her when she was unconscious. Does Chase think Michael could forgive her?

Michael tells Willow, he was just so angry at Sasha, being so self-sacrificing that she was willing to throw their relationship over for a lie. He lost her, and the lie worked. Then she turned to drugs and nearly killed herself. What were Sasha and Chase thinking, being so reckless and… Willow says, shatteringly messy, and he says, that sums it up. He can’t unload on Sasha; she’s recovering. So he hasn’t been back. Intellectually, he understands what she did for Wiley, but emotionally, he’s still angry. He doesn’t want to say anything to make things worse. She says she gets it. It blows her away that Sasha and Chase chose to manipulate them, rather than talk openly. Michael says he wants to forgive Sasha, but he doesn’t know if he can.

Willow wonders how they can fault Sasha and Chase for what they did, and Michael says, it’s how they did it. He replayed every conversation they’d had, leading up to Sasha and Chase being together. Willow says, but they weren’t; it was a lie. Michael says, but the pain was real. He questioned everything, wondering how he missed it. She says, they didn’t miss anything. There was nothing to miss. They’d made it up. Pain and hurt aside, that’s the reality, and she and Michael have to figure out what that sacrifice means to them. How they feel about themselves, and Chase and Sasha.

Sasha tells Chase, Michael stayed there all night; it has to mean something. If Michael is worried, maybe he still cares. Chase says Michael was definitely worried, and still cares, but don’t get ahead of herself. She asks if he knows something, and he flashes back to finding Michael and Willow together. He says maybe they can talk another time, and she says, about what? What does he know? Just tell her. He says, Michael and Willow’s marriage… it’s a real marriage.    

Lucas tells Britt, if she has something to say, say it. She says he knows Brad. Does he really think Brad could have kept a secret for so long all by himself? He had help, but he took the fall anyway.    

Josslyn says, Trina talked to Cyrus? She knows he’s dangerous, and shouldn’t have been anywhere near him. Trina says she doesn’t like or trust Cyrus, but when he told her that her father might be alive, something in her soul said he was telling the truth. She believes him. She remembers when she was in the hospital with her father. They were laughing, talking, and planning stuff they were going to do. She went get him some candy, and when she came back, he was gone. It doesn’t make sense. Josslyn asks if Trina thinks maybe she wants it so bad, she’s grasping at straws? and Trina says, maybe, but wouldn’t Josslyn feel the same way if it was her dad? Wouldn’t she do everything in her power to see if he was alive? She has to find out one way or another. Josslyn says, okay; Trina’s got her. She thinks they should talk to Carly and Sonny, but Trina says, absolutely not. She has to promise not to say a word.  

Nikolas says, Julian set off the bomb that left Lulu in a coma, and lying in a hospital in Manhattan? and Ava says, he said Cyrus was threatening his family, even her and Avery. He asks, why bomb The Floating Rib? and she says, to kill Jason. Cyrus said he was going to lure Jason there after hours, and all Julian had to do was drop off the bomb. Nikolas says, it was a crowded restaurant, and she says, somehow Cyrus knew Jason would be there. He says, if Julian was supposed to wait until Jason was alone, why it set off? and she tells him, Julian said Cyrus tricked him. He was supposed to call Cyrus afterward, and the call detonated the bomb. Julian knew not to trust Cyrus, but he was so desperate to save himself from Sonny, he didn’t care about all the people he put at risk. He asks why Ava hid Julian there, and she says she didn’t know the extent of the damage. She didn’t know about Lulu, but as soon as she found out, she knew she had to make a choice. Let Julian drag her down again or choose her own future. She let herself have a moment of clarity, and for the first time in her life, she listened to it. He says, and she chose him. She says, she chose him, and she’d do it again.

Michael says he doesn’t know how he feels about Sasha, and Willow thinks he owes it to himself to find out. Clearly, he still has strong feelings about her. He says, what about them? and she says, whatever they are or could be, they can’t move on until they’re both positive Chase and Sasha are really behind them. He guesses he should take the time to figure it out, after the feelings of anger and confusion are done clouding things. She says she needs to do the same. Clearly (her WOTD), she’s all over the place. At least they know one thing for sure. They’ve always been friends, and she never wants to jeopardize that. He says, it can’t and won’t happen. They’ve been through too much, but they will always be Wiley’s parents, no matter what. She says, no matter what.

Sasha asks if Chase is telling her that Michael and Willow are sleeping together, and he says, yes. They were supposed to get an annulment. Now he’s not so sure. She asks what Willow said when he told her the truth. Did she say it was too late for them? He says, she was mostly stunned. He told her that he loved her, and she had no reply. Sasha says, that’s it then. She knew they’d never recover from this. Michael and Willow will never forgive them. Chase’s phone dings, and he says, it’s Willow. She wants to see him.

Britt says she has to go, and Lucas says she can’t drop something like this on him and take off. She’s telling him Brad had an accomplice other than Nelle? She says, Brad wasn’t Nelle’s accomplice; he was her victim. He had to help. He asks why Brad would take the fall. What was in it for him? She says Lucas doesn’t get it. Everything Brad did, he did for him. Brad loves him, and knew Lucas loved his family. He’d lost Wiley, and Brad wanted him to keep the family he had left. She walks away.   

Josslyn says she certainly doesn’t want to fan the flames of tension between Cyrus and Sonny. She doesn’t understand why he’d bomb The Floating Rib. Trina says there are a lot of reasons not to tell, so please promise her. Pinky swear.

Sonny says, Nelle is Nina’s daughter? and Carly says, it all adds up. When she found out Nelle was dead, Nina felt terrible. She blamed herself for testifying against Nelle at the custody hearing. How is she going to feel when she finds out she testified against her own daughter? Jason has to admit, he didn’t see this one coming, and Sonny asks if anyone else knows. Carly says, Jax. She’s been wanting to tell Sonny, but there was so much going on, she thought it could keep. Sonny asks if Jax is threatening to tell Nina.

Nina asks Jax if he means, is she forgiving Valentin for trying to make her happy by giving her a pretend daughter when he couldn’t find her real one? She doesn’t know. It was wrong, but she understands it a little bit more now. She saw Sasha earlier, when they were saying goodbye to Lulu, and all that pain in Charlotte was in, she would have done anything to take it away. They try to comfort the ones they love, and sometimes go too far. Jax admits he’s guilty of that, and she says, of course (🍷) he is; he’s Sir Galahad. He says, not always. She’s right. Holding on to a lie only hurts the people you love. The truth is always best.

Ava tells Nikolas, she doesn’t know what to feel anymore. She betrayed her brother. She loved him very much, but all she knew was she had to do it for Nikolas, to make amends for what Julian did to his family. But that means, Nikolas is all she has left. Can he accept that? Accept them? And if he could, would that be enough for him? Nikolas says, yes, more than enough. He’s fooled around most of his life, and he’s ready to move forward, together. They’ll build a future together. She says she hopes he doesn’t regret his choice, and he says he loves her too. They kiss, and I breathe a sigh of relief, since I really like them together.

Jason asks how sure Carly is that Jax will protect her secret. If he tells Nina, who knows what else he’ll say. She says Nelle’s fall from the cliff wasn’t her fault, but he says, Nina might not see it that way. She says he cares too much about Nina to tell her that not only is Nelle dead, but Nelle was her daughter. Sonny says, he held Dev’s secret, despite a lot of pressure, and he hopes Jax keeps his mouth shut. Not that I think there won’t be more problems later.

Jax says he needs to tell Nina something, but she says he doesn’t have to. She takes it all back, everything she said about the truth and hope. It’s not that simple. The truth can be brutal, and hope is sometimes the only thing that sustains them. She was dreaming for such a long time that she’d be able to find her child, but the truth is, her daughter isn’t a child anymore. She’s a woman, and Nina prays the family who adopted her loved her and supported her, and gave her the confidence to reach her full potential. Every path to her child led to a dead end. The only thing that comforted her, was that she hoped her child had a good life, even if she doesn’t get to be a part of it. Jax says, maybe Nina’s intuition is right. Maybe it’s time to stop looking.   

Josslyn pinky swears with Trina, and swears she’ll keep the secret. Trina thanks her, and they hug. Josslyn asks what the plan is. She knows Trina has one. Train says they need to find more information – something to prove or disprove Cyrus’s claim – and she thinks she knows where to start.

There’s a knock on Sasha’s door, and Michael comes in.  

Chase goes the Quartermaine mansion and finds Willow. He says he got her text.

On Monday, Willow has something she needs to say to Chase, Violet asks who Gregory is, and Franco says he has voices in his head.

⛈ Is 2020 Over Yet…?

Here we are again, cruising into yet another weekend, or another two days into, what day is it, anyway? Regardless of which side of the week fence you sit, try to change it up a little. Even with yo-yoing restrictions, there’s no restriction on creativity. And there’s always Netflix. No Dead this weekend, due to holiday films, which look like they’re an all-weekend thing on AMC. This is a win for me, since the premiere of 90 Day Fiancé (season 8) is happening, and it looks promising. So until we meet for Monday in PC, stay safe, stay inventive, and stay true to your pinky swears.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

I missed the very beginning, but not much happened. All you need to know is, Monica asked Brook to the Quartermaine mansion to make peace with Ned, and Scotty met Nikolas in an alley to make the exchange.

Nikolas tells Scotty, it’s all there. If he hears from Scotty, asking for another dime, he’s going straight to the cops. Scotty says Nikolas isn’t going to the cops, but Nikolas says he’d rather take his chances with them than pay Scotty again. Nikolas takes out a check, and Scotty says, it’s supposed to be cash, but Nikolas says he can’t access that much hard currency. Even if he could, he’s not comfortable carrying it into an alley. Scotty asks how he knows it’s not going to bounce, and Nikolas tells him, take it now or the deal is off. Scotty says he doesn’t have to be rude about it, and snatches the check out of Nikolas’s hand, saying, nice doing business with him. Nikolas says he means it. If he hears from Scotty again, he’s going to the cops. Scotty says Nikolas is getting more and more like his Uncle Stephan. Nikolas looks at the picture of him and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth tells Franco, she’s having second thoughts about blackmailing Nikolas and Ava. Franco tells her, they have every right to be angry. It’s one thing for Ava and Nikolas to try cutting each other out of the Cassadine fortune; it’s another to try and sabotage their marriage. Elizabeth says, they set Ava and Nikolas up, and Franco says Ava and Nikolas set them up too; it was self-defense. She says she did the same thing as him and Ava; is she supposed to feel good about that? He says if they can pay a couple of bills and Cameron’s tuition, she’ll feel good, but she says, what if she can’t?  

Brook wonders when Monica became peacemaker, and Monica says, after she was fired from the hospital, she had a lot of time on her hands. Brook asks if there isn’t a clinic she could volunteer at, and Monica says she was also getting threats from Tracy. Tracy said if they didn’t patch things up, she was going to fly there and talk sense into both of them. Ned says he explained that he begged Brook to come home and she refused. Brook says he threw her out of the house in the first place, and it’s not even his house. Monica says, valid point, and he admits he overreacted when they lost ELQ, thanks in part to Brook selling her stock to Valentin. Monica says, enough about ELQ. It’s just a company. You can’t hug it, love it, or kiss it goodnight, and it’s certainly not more important than his daughter. He tells Monica, he never said it was, but Brook says that’s not how he acted. She didn’t know Linc was a front, and by the time she figured it out… She should have warned him, but she didn’t. Ned asks, why?

Sonny tells Brando, let him know when Cyrus makes contact. Brando says he will. Is there anything in particular Sonny is watching for? Jason says Cyrus has been contacting Julian, who owns Charlie’s, and Sonny says, Julian could be dangerous if he wasn’t a spineless coward. Jason says Cyrus has made several visits, and wants to buy the pub, and Sonny says, Cyrus is cultivating Julian. Brando says, like Cyrus is doing to him. Sonny says, Julian will turn Cyrus down, and Jason asks how he knows. Sonny says he knows, but they have to make sure.

On the terrace, Josslyn remembers Cameron kissing her. She sees Dev, and asks how long he’s been there. He says, not long. She seemed lost in thought. He didn’t want to interrupt her. She says she was looking at the stars, and asks if he got the boat tied up. He says, everything is taken care of, and she says Tony was pissed when Dev let it drift out on the lake. Dev says, now he doublechecks. He tells her, it seems like a clear night. Does she want to go out on the lake and watch the stars? She says, it sounds like fun. She’ll text Cameron and Trina, and see if they want to come. Dev says, no offense, but they can’t cramp Trina and Cameron’s style.

Elizabeth says she’s not a blackmailer, and Franco says, come on. Ava and Nikolas messed with them. Can’t they mess back a little bit? She says, two wrongs don’t make a right. She can’t hold her children to one standard, and herself to another. Cameron comes out of the elevator, a towel wrapped around his bloody hand. He says he cut himself at work. He didn’t think it was bad, but the waitress said he should come in. Elizabeth says she was right, and she wants him to see a doctor. She runs off, and Franco tells Cameron to do what she says. Trust him when it comes to his mom.  

At home, Alexis drinks. The doorbell rings, followed by knocking. She hides everything in the cupboard, and opens the door to Nikolas. She asks what he’s doing there, and he says he needs her help. She invites him in, but says he should know she doesn’t have her law license. She’s not practicing right now, but she’ll do what she can. He asks if it’s a bad time, but she says it’s never a bad time when it comes to her nephew. What’s up? He asks if she has any leverage on Scotty. Maybe proof of malpractice or personal misconduct. She says she knows Scotty cuts corners when he practices law, but she has no proof. He says he figured, and thanks her anyway. He starts to leave, but she says, oh no you don’t. He just asked her for blackmail dirt about Scotty with no explanation. Tell her what’s up. He says he got himself in a mess that involves her ex.

Brook says there were two reasons she kept quiet. The first is that Valentin offered to jumpstart her career. Ned says, what the hell does Valentin know about the music industry? and Monica tells him, be quiet; he’ll get his turn. Brook says he offered her a gig being the voice of Deception, with all kinds of cross-promotion. All she had to do was not warn anyone that Valentin had acquired the shares. Ned says, giving him time to get the necessary shares to take over. Monica says, Brook told them there were two reasons, and Brook says, obviously, it was a good deal for her, but she thought it could be good for Ned too.

Sonny walks into Charlie’s, and tell Julian it looks like business is bad. Julian says, it’s all right, and Sonny tells him, stress kills.

Brook says when Ned stepped in for Michael and started working at ELQ, it was a point of tension for him and Olivia. Ned says, don’t bring Olivia into it, and Monica says, enough. She tells Ned, sit and stop interrupting. She’d asked Brook to explain. Brook says what Ned was doing made him preoccupied and demanding. He’d said that if someone more effective could take over the company, he’d step down. She did research, and when Valentin took over Cassadine Industries, the company was a mess. Within two and a half years, Valentin turned it around, and it’s worth more than ever. She figured ELQ was in good shape, and Valentin could make it more profitable. It would benefit all of the shareholders. That’s why she took the deal. She may have been naïve, but she’s not a traitor. Monica tells Ned, it’s his turn.

In the examining room, Cameron says he doesn’t think he needs stitches, but Franco tells him, do what his mom says, and let the doctor take a look. Cameron says, it was a stupid accident, and Franco asks, what happened? Cameron says he was cleaning the carving knife, got distracted, and cut his hand. Franco says, distracted how? and Cameron says, just stuff. Franco says, like work stuff, scholarship stuff, or relationship stuff? Cameron says he doesn’t have a relationship. Not officially. They kissed at homecoming. Franco says, him and Trina? but Cameron says, him and Josslyn. He really likes Josslyn, but he also really likes Trina. He likes her more every day. When Josslyn was under house arrest, they got close, and he feels like he can talk to Trina about anything. Franco asks if he doesn’t feel like that with Josslyn, and Cameron says he used to. Sometimes he still does, but there’s a weird tension between them. Maybe it’s in his head. Franco asks, how about Josslyn? Does he have any idea how she feels? Cameron says they haven’t had a lot of time to talk, but to be honest, he’s kind of been hiding. He’s afraid he’ll say the wrong thing. Franco says, the longer he hides, the higher the risk of a catastrophic catastrophe. Cameron gets a text from Dev, saying, Where are U? Need to meet. Cameron asks how long Franco thinks before the doctor gets there, and Franco says, ten minutes, assuming one shows up.

Cameron texts Dev to meet him at the hospital, and Dev tells Josslyn, Cameron is busy, but didn’t say why. He bets it’s with Trina. Josslyn asks what he meant by her cramping their style, and he says he thinks they need space. They’d rather be alone, but they’re too nice to say anything. Josslyn tells him that she’s not in the mood anymore for going out on the boat. She thinks she’ll take a jog.

Carly asks Jason if everything is okay, and he says, Brando is going to work for Cyrus. She says, Sonny told her everything. He was afraid she’d freak out and try to stop Brando, or warn Cyrus, and blow the whole plan. Jason says Sonny knows how she thinks. She asks if Sonny said where he was going, and Jason says, he went to clarify a few things with Julian. Carly says, that’s a good thing. Focusing on work will distract Sonny from grieving over Mike. Jason says Sonny will be okay. She’s the one he’s worried about.

Ned says he was wrong to kick Brook out and close the door in her face. He should gone after her immediately, and apologized. She’s his daughter. He loves her, and wants to take care of her. She says, what about the company? and he says, they’ll get it back somehow. He says she should have known better than to trust Valentin, but obviously she’s learned her lesson. Now she realizes you always put family first. Monica says Ned is sounding like Edward. Keep it up, and Ned will be just like him.

The cupboard door is ajar, and Alexis quickly closes it, telling Nikolas, if this is about Julian, she’ll have to pass. She’s worked hard to keep a firewall between her and their disastrous relationship. She wants to keep that intact. He says, Julian is just peripheral, and she says, to what? He says his marriage to Ava is more complicated than he anticipated. She says he doesn’t seem upset, and he says he’s not. It makes no sense. Since Ava coerced him into marriage, he’s been looking for a way out, but recently, there’s been a shift. Ava is kinder and less defensive. She’s still fiery, and has an intelligent, wicked sense of humor, but he doesn’t dread seeing her around the house, or having her take his arm in public. In fact, he’s realized that he doesn’t want to divorce Ava.

Elizabeth sees Cameron leaving, and asks Franco where he’s going. Franco says, it’s okay. He just took off to meet someone. She hopes it’s Trina. She loves Josslyn, but she and Carly are like oil and water. The less interaction the better. Scotty walks in, and says, it’s payday. He tells them not to look all serious; they’re just getting started. Franco takes the check, and Scotty’s phone dings. He says, number two, and Elizabeth says she hates this, but Franco says, it’s compensation.

Scotty meets Ava, who says she doesn’t like being kept waiting. He suggests they get down to business, and says he’s got the shots of her making out with Franco. Either he shows them to Nikolas, or she shows him the money.

Julian asks if Sonny wants a drink, but Sonny says he’s not there to drink. Julian says he’s sorry hear about Sonny’s father; he liked Mike. Sonny says, everybody liked his dad. Julian guesses he got the box of old pictures he’d asked for, and his father appreciated the photos. Sonny says his father is at peace now, and won’t need them anymore. Julian says, maybe he can donate them to the historical society, and Sonny says, maybe. Julian should attract more customers. Julian says, it’s just a lull, and Sonny says he should consider selling Corinthos Coffee again. It would be in Julian’s best interest to have Sonny’s name affiliated with the place.

Jason asks when Jordan told Carly about talking to the detective, and she says, it was after Mike’s funeral. Just when she thinks Nelle is out of their lives, she’s back again causing trouble, even after she’s dead. When she ran out on the cliff, she could hear Nelle screaming. She thought it was a trick, and Nelle had just slit Brook’s throat. Nelle kept begging for help, but she just stood there and didn’t move. She thought Nelle had done it to herself. Then she reached out her hand, and Nelle slipped. She fell. Jason promises her, it’s better this way.

Sonny says he hears Julian is negotiating with Cyrus, and Julian says Cyrus wanted to make an offer to buy the place, but he turned Cyrus down. That’s all there is to it. Sonny says, Cyrus is persistent, and won’t take no for an answer. Julian says he’s not selling Charlie’s, and he’s not selling Sonny’s coffee. Sonny says Julian doesn’t have the luxury of turning him down.

Jason says he’s glad Carly didn’t kill Nelle. She says she could have reached out, but Jason says Nelle would never have stopped coming after her, and hurting her and the people she loves. Nelle had to die. It’s no one’s fault. This way, she did it to herself. Carly says, what if the police don’t believe her, and he says, that’s what Diane is for. She asks if he could call Diane and reschedule the meeting. She has to talk to Josslyn. She goes outside, and finds Josslyn stretching on the terrace. She asks if Josslyn is okay, and Josslyn says she just got back from a jog. Carly says she usually doesn’t run this late, and Josslyn says she felt like getting out. Carly asks if there’s any particular reason why.

Cameron meets Dev at the hospital, and Dev asks, what happened to his hand? Cameron says he had an accident at work; no big deal. Why did Dev want to meet? Dev says, this, and hands Cameron a notebook. Cameron reads, Cameron kissed me and I wish he hadn’t. He says, this is private, but Dev says Cameron needs to hear it. He reads, it was sloppy and clumsy. Why did he think it was okay? How do I tell him we’re just friends? Cameron says, it’s totally violating Josslyn’s privacy, but Dev says he thought Cameron would want to know. Josslyn threw it away. Cameron says if Josslyn didn’t give it to him, he stole it, and Dev asks, what happens when Cameron tries to kiss Josslyn again? He could lose her as a friend. Cameron says he has to go, and hurries off. Dev flashes back to copying Josslyn’s writing. He puts the notebook in the trash.   

Josslyn tells Carly, she keeps thinking about Cameron and how they kissed. They were alone on deck talking, and suddenly they were kissing, but what if it wasn’t meant to happen? What if it was an accident, or Cameron is really into Trina and they want to be together? She doesn’t want to mess up, and asks what Carly thinks she should do. Carly says Josslyn, Trina, and Cameron have all been friends, long before the kiss. Trust that friendship. If Cameron doesn’t have feelings for her, he’ll tell her, but if he does, then the kiss was no accident.   

Alexis asks if Nikolas would choose to stay married to Ava, and he says he thinks he would. Not only because of the money. Alexis says he doesn’t have to stay married to someone he hates. Either Ava is going to change or he is. He says, maybe they both have.  

Ava tells Scotty, please don’t do this. She’s asking as a friend. He says she’s breaking his heart, but he’s going to do it anyway. She says, if this is really how he wants it, and he says, another check? He prefers cash, or that new thing. Vemo? She says, Venmo. The sale of the penthouse just went through, and he says, it was in progress before he blackmailed her. She doesn’t need it, how that she’s happily ever after married on the island. She says she gave him the money; give her the picture. He gives her an envelope and says, it’s all there. She says she guarantees if he comes back for more, she will retaliate in ways he won’t enjoy.

Brook tells Ned, all she wanted was to be a singer. It was dumb of her to sign the contract with Linc, but she was desperate. Ned says she was impatient. Her career wasn’t going the way she’d hoped, and she took a shortcut. Something quicker and easier, and it blew up in her face. Until she starts being responsible for her actions, she’s doomed to make the same mistakes. She says there’s one mistake she won’t be repeating. She won’t come crawling back to her family. She walks out, and Ned says he’s not sure what Monica and his mother were hoping to accomplish with this little summit. She says they were hoping to hold the family together, since he’s doing a bang-up job of tearing it apart. He says, Brook is being unreasonable, and she says so is he. In the past few months, he’s lost ELQ, alienated his daughter, and things aren’t going well with him and Olivia. He says, Olivia is the best thing that ever happened to him, and he knows it. Monica says, but does she?   

Brook realizes she left her phone inside.

Ned tells Monica that he’s doing everything he can to let Olivia know he loves her. She says, the way he acted when Olivia wanted to see Dante didn’t scream happy marriage. They’re going through a rough patch, but they can come back stronger if he stays out of his own way, but that may be asking too much. Brook quietly lets herself back in the house. Monica says, the one great advantage Ned has is that Olivia is head over heels in love with him. He’d have to do something appalling for her to give up and leave. He asks if finding out he’d cheated with Alexis would do it. Brook listens outside the door.   

Nikolas tells Alexis, when they say something genuine, Ava lowers her guard, and he lowers his too. It might be the beginnings of trust. Alexis says, if it makes him happy, she’s all for it, but he tells her not to get ahead of herself. Ava may not return his feelings. Alexis suggests he ask her. Nikolas says he might, and heads for the door. She tells him that her wisdom is available any time. He leaves, and she jets to the cupboard, takes out the vodka, and pours herself a drink.    

Scotty tells Franco and Elizabeth, mission accomplished. He hands Franco the check, saying, Ava guaranteed it won’t bounce. They have the Cassadine check, and as soon as they cash those babies, their money problems are gone. Elizabeth wonders if it’s what they want, and Scotty says, of course (🍷) it is. They messed with Elizabeth and Franco’s marriage. Now it’s tuition and summer camp; it’s for the family. Franco and Elizabeth rip the checks up, and Scotty asks what they’re doing. Franco says, the right thing. He might want to try it sometime. They walk away, and Scotty scrambles, trying to pick up the check pieces, saying they can tape them together. He follows them, and Ava comes along. She picks up a piece Scotty missed, and it has Nikolas’s signature on it.

Sonny says Julian keeps making obstacles in small unknowing ways. First, he pays for Brad’s defense; then he marries Nelle. Now he’s chatting with Cyrus. Sonny has looked the other way because of Ava, and for Avery’s sake he’s continued to. But this time, Ava can’t save Julian anymore. No one will. Sonny walks out.

Carly asks if Jason talked to Diane about rescheduling, and he says, Diane tried, but the detective pushed back hard. Carly has to talk to him tonight, or she’ll be subpoenaed to Pennsylvania. She says that will give her time to prepare, but he says, the harder she fights, it will look like she’s hiding something. She says she is, and he tells her, go tonight. Diane will block any questions she shouldn’t answer. She says she doesn’t like it, and he says, neither does he, but there’s nothing they can do as long as she sticks to her story.

On Monday, Ned says the secret goes to his grave with him, Valentin asks Nina to let him help find Phyllis, Willow wants to have a drink with Sasha, and Carly says she stands by her statement.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

 

General Hospital

Diane and Sonny walk into Sonny’s place, Diane tell him, that’s what he paid for; for her to uncomplicate things. Carly says she didn’t hear Diane come in, and Diane says that’s because she’s stealth, like a cat. Carly asks, what’s going on? Diane says they were discussing certain legal issues, and Sonny says he wants Carly to join in the conversation. She asks what he’s talking about, and he says, adopting Dev.

Sam asks Michael how Sasha is; how is he? He says he’s hanging in, but he’s worried about Sasha. They have her on a new round of anti-virals, and he hopes they work.

Obrecht asks Finn what Sasha’s status is, and he says, the next 24 hours are critical. Nina says anyone who had contact with her early on is being tested. Valentin says they were given medication when Sasha was diagnosed, but Finn says, now they know it’s a weaponized strain. Finn says some medical stuff I don’t really understand, and Obrecht asks if that test doesn’t require a DNA sample from all parties. Finn asks if it’s a problem.

Outside of Charlie’s, Alexis says she knows Kim is anxious to leave, but Kim says, don’t worry. It takes as long as it takes. Alexis follows her inside. She says, sorry. She thought Kim was in a hurry, but she’s glad to hear that’s not the case. Julian asks what they’re talking about, and Kim says, the closing delay. Julian says, sorry, and Kim says, things happen. He asks if she’s not disappointed, and she says, a little bit. Franco walks in.

Elizabeth grabs her coat, and says something came up, but Cameron says he needs to tell her something. She says she has to get to the hospital. He says, it’s important. He saw Franco in the park, and he was with Oscar’s mom. Elizabeth asks if something happened, and Cameron says, they were kissing.

At the hospital, Jordan tells Jason, Andre walked in alone, and collapsed. He was unconscious before he could tell anyone anything. Jason asks if they’ve determined the nature of Andre’s injuries. Jordan says they have a good idea, and Epiphany asks if anyone has heard of HIPPA. Mac says, Jason is officially helping, right? Jason nods, and Epiphany says, Andre has two deep wounds in his abdomen. He was stabbed. Jason says, Andre just returned to the states. Who here wants him dead?

Peter goes into Andre’s room. He says, Dr. Maddox (I add, I presume, in my head). He tells Andre, he shouldn’t have come back. What is he supposed to do with him? Peter looks at the IV drip.

On the phone, Brad tells Lucas that he’ll be home soon. He’ll pick up dinner. Lucas is cooking? Please don’t burn down the house. He says he loves Lucas too, and looks at a picture of Lucas and Wiley.

Michael tells Sam, the rest can wait. She says, what rest? and he says forget he said anything. She says he can tell her anything; she won’t judge. He says he’s not concerned about that, and she says, sometimes you have to talk. If he gets it out in the open, he might feel better. He says Sasha has been secretive for as long as he’s known her. Sam asks, how so? He says, he knows she grew up in Chappaqua, and knows where she went to college, but he doesn’t know any details, nothing about her past. Last night, she told him when she gets better, she’ll tell him everything; to quote her, even if he doesn’t like it very much. Sam asks what he thinks she’s referring to, but he has no idea. It could be the medication talking, but if it’s not, she might have a major secret that can blow them up. He’s not sure he wants to know.

Nina sits next to Sasha’s bed. In the hallway, Finn explains why the DNA is needed. Obrecht says they’ll do what’s required. They need to focus on Sasha, who’s at risk. Finn says, she’s getting the best care possible. He leaves, and Valentin tells Obrecht, say it. She thinks the test will prove that Sasha isn’t Nina’s daughter. Obrecht asks what he thinks it will find. It’s to check for the virus, not paternity. It might be better if Sasha dies. He says, how dare she? He’d never wish Sasha dead. She asks if he’s sure. He seems very defensive. He says he brought Sasha there to help Nina heal. Obrecht says, he brought her there to get back into Nina’s good graces. He says his motives are irrelevant. Nina will be inconsolable if Sasha dies. Nothing is worth that.

Peter tells Andre that he wishes there was another way. The machine starts to beep, and Peter goes out another door. Is he hiding in the bathroom?

Franco says he realized Kim might be there, but maybe he should go. Julian says, before he does, Julian doesn’t think he’s had the pleasure. He introduces himself, and Franco says, he’s Kim’s boyfriend, right? Julian says, yeah. He knows it’s uncomfortable, but they’re all adults. He suggests a round on the house; they can talk about it. He’ll be holding onto his bar for a few more days. Franco says, it’s Julian’s bar? If he’d known, he wouldn’t have come. Julian says, it’s fine. It doesn’t have to be awkward. Franco says maybe it’s better if he leaves. Everything that happened earlier is his fault. He apologizes. Julian asks what he’s talking about. What happened?

Cameron asks if Elizabeth heard him. Franco was making out with Oscar’s mom in public. She says she heard him. It’s a very complicated situation for everyone, including Kim. Cameron asks how she’s not pissed. Kim hasn’t lost her memory, and knows he’s Franco and not Drew. Elizabeth says she’s feeling a lot of things; loss, grief, confusion. She has to stay focused in finding a solution. Hopefully, Andre can reverse the procedure. Cameron says she better figure it out fast. Franco is planning on leaving as soon as the ankle monitor is off, and he asked Kim to go with him.

Mac asks Epiphany, how much longer? She hears the beeps, and says, that’s Dr. Maddox. She runs to his room, and they wait outside. Peter comes in another door, and he sneaks around. He sees Jason, Mac, and Jordan outside Andre’s room. I’d love to know what door goes outside from where the bathroom should be, but okay.

Carly says, Sonny wants to adopt Dev? He says he’s considering options. They’re just talking about the process. Carly asks when he decided, and Sonny says they’re just talking possibilities. He hasn’t decided. Diane thinks they need space, but Sonny says, no. If they move forward, she needs to know everything. Carly asks when he decided maybe adopting Dev, and Sonny says, Gladys has been hanging around Mike, and is visiting Port Charles. He wants to make sure Dev is taken care of. Carly asks if he doesn’t need Gladys’s cooperation; technically, she’s Dev’s guardian. He says he’s thinking of cutting her out of it, and dealing with it the legit way. Diane says Sonny informed her that he provided Dev with a US ID. Had he consulted her, she would have advised against it. Sonny says that’s why he didn’t consult her, and I literally lol. Carly asks if it would be possible using Dev’s real ID. Diane says, immigration law is clear on it. Not unless the child is under sixteen, and Dev just missed the cut off. They may be able to adopt him using his US ID though. Sonny says she means adopt him as Dev Corbin? Carly doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

Michael tells Sam, it feels wrong talking about Sasha while she’s in the hospital. Sam says it’s clearly a weight on him, and he’s just venting. Michael says, if he thought she was being deceptive, that would be one thing, but he thinks she’s talking about her past; something embarrassing or that she’s ashamed of, and they all have those things. Sam says, of course (🍷) they do, but it’s good to be honest. You can’t hide the past forever, and secrets end up coming out In the end.

Valentin says, it would destroy Nina if anything happened to Sasha, and Obrecht says, just as it would if Nina knew he was lying. He asks, which is worse? and she says, for who? He says, her, and she asks how she’s involved. He says she’s long suspected Sasha isn’t Nina’s daughter, but she hasn’t said anything. She used it for her personal gain, to get leverage and blackmail him. That makes her an accomplice. If the ship goes down, she’ll drown with him. Obrecht says his reasoning is unassailable. Allow her to handle this.

Jordan says, come on, Andre. The doctor gives Andre an injection, and says, he’s stabilizing. Andre opens his eyes.

Obrecht finds Brad about to get in the elevator. She says she caught him just in time.

Sasha wakes, and Nina says, it’s okay. She was just watching Sasha sleep. Sasha says her mother did that when she was a kid. Nina says she finally gets it. Every cliché she’s heard about parenting. It’s overwhelming; the urge to make sure your child is okay. She feels better being near Sasha, like she’s protecting her and keeping her safe. It’s silly. Sasha says, no; it’s not silly. She feels better when Nina is there. Nina wishes she could trade places with Sasha. She would give her life in a second if it meant saving Sasha’s.

Michael tells Sam not to bring up Nelle, and she asks why she’d do that. He says Nelle had secrets, and would give him plausible excuses as to why she told a lie or kept things from him. Now Sasha has a secret. Sam says he doesn’t think she’s like Nelle, does he? He says, no. Nelle was broken and vindictive. Sasha is the opposite. She did her best to keep things casual, and they tell each other it’s casual. The problem is, they’re good for each other. Whatever secret she’s hiding, he can’t believe it’s that bad. At least that’s what he wants to believe. Sam asks if he wants to rescue Sasha, and he says he wants her to get well. She says that’s not what she means. Does he want to ride in on a white horse, and fix all her problems? He says even if he did, Sasha wouldn’t let him. She’s way too independent. She asks if he’s comfortable with that, and he says, absolutely. Sam doesn’t think anything is wrong. He’s a rescuer, and Nelle took advantage of that. Sasha is being honest, and honesty is the key to a healthy foundation of any relationship. Michael thanks her for the advice and support. He feels like he owes her a drink. She says he owes her nothing, and Michael says, under normal circumstances, he’d insist, but he has to go back to the hospital. Sam tells him to go be with Sasha. Her phone dings, and she says, wait. She has to head to GH too.

Julian says, something happened between Kim and Franco? Franco says he ran into Kim at the park. She was visiting the marker dedicated to their son. Julian says, Drew and Kim’s son. Franco says she was trying to have peace and quiet, and he upset her. He apologizes, and Kim says, it’s okay. Alexis says she’ll keep them posted about the closing. It won’t take too long. Julian says, sounds good. He tells Franco, maybe they should take a raincheck on that drink. Franco agrees, tells Kim that he’s sorry, and leaves.

Outside, Franco tells Alexis that he doesn’t know her name. She introduces herself, and he says it’s a pleasure to meet her. He asks if she’s a lawyer, and she says she is; why? He says he might need her services.

Elizabeth asks if that’s what Franco really said. Cameron says, word for word, that’s what he told Kim. She says that’s what she and Scotty were afraid of. Once the monitor comes off, he’s gone. She asks what Kim said, and Cameron says, she didn’t commit, but she was pretty emotional. They talked, and Kim took off. When she left, he let Franco have it, saying he was a real jackass. Elizabeth appreciates the support, but he doesn’t really have to intervene. He asks what she expects him to do; sit back and let Franco do what he’s doing? She says he needs to be strong  for his brothers. They’re going to hear rumors, and he has to protect them. She tells him, don’t worry. As terrible as it seems, it’s temporary. Andre will find a way to bring Franco back.

The doctor says, Andre’s heart rate is up, but he just regained consciousness, and that’s a normal response. Epiphany says she needs them all to leave, but Andre tells them, stay. They need to know what’s going on. Jordan says, if he’s up to it. He says he’ll manage. He’s glad to see her on her feet, and she says she wishes she could say the same about him. What happened? He says, someone tried to kill him. I have to admit my error. It is the same Andre. Between the oxygen mask, and him growing facial hair, I thought it was a new guy. I’m glad it’s not, since I like this Andre.

Diane tells Sonny, adopting Dev using a false ID is asking for trouble. The documents are no golden pass. There’s no question how it will look. From a legal standpoint, it’s questionable. She says it’s their decision to make; she’s off. Sonny tells Carly that he knows it’s a sticky situation. She says, that’s an understatement, but he says he won’t go for it unless they can get away with it. She says, it’s not just the legal issue. She’s not sure it’s the right thing. She thinks having Dev live there is one thing; making Dev a permanent part of their family is another.

Brad tells Obrecht that he’d love to stay and chat, but he has to get home. Lucas made dinner. He suggests they table this until never. Obrecht says she could follow him home, and they can talk there. He says, fine. What is it? She pulls him out of the elevator, and says she needs his expertise. He asks for clarification, and she says, Nina’s family is going to require a genetic test. He needs to make sure Nina and Sasha’s DNA is a match.

On the phone, Finn asks Anna to check in with him. He sees Peter, and tells him that he should call Anna. She’d love to hear from him.

Jordan asks Andre, what happened? He says he was working with a humanitarian aid group in Ethiopia. Drew found him, and told him everything. He wanted Andre to reverse the memory transfer procedure on Franco. He agreed to come back and examine Franco, but couldn’t make any promises. Mac asks about the trip home, and Andre says Drew drove him to the airport, and put him on the first flight to Port Charles. Mac says, Drew didn’t accompany him? Andre says, no. Drew had his own jet, and was en route to Afghanistan. He had urgent personal business there. Mac says, he came alone? and Andre says, correct. A driver met him to take him to GH. He thought Drew arranged it, so he got in the car, but instead of driving to GH, the driver pulled into an alley. He took out a knife, and Andre tried to run, but the driver caught up with him, and stabbed him. He managed to fight the driver off, made his way back to the car, and drove himself to the ER. That’s the last thing he remembers. He must have blacked out. Jordan asks if anyone talked to Drew. He needs to know what’s going on. Wow. Maybe they should recruit Andre for the PCPD. He’s pretty hardy.

Mac says he hasn’t heard from Drew. Shouldn’t he have landed in Afghanistan by now? Andre asks how long he’s been out, and Jordan says, a couple of hours. Jason says, it’s been time enough; Drew should be there by now. Epiphany needs to clear the room. Jason lingers, but leaves with the others. Jordan asks for a word with Mac. Elizabeth comes out of the elevator, and asks Jason where Andre is. Jason says he got stabbed and was admitted. He’ll be okay, but what about Drew?

Julian asks if Kim is good, and she says she’s trying to be. She says, this should help, indicating her drink. He says, it can’t be easy, and Kim says Franco just frazzles her. She knows he’s not Drew, but it’s painful hearing her personal memories coming out of Franco’s mouth. Julian asks why she didn’t tell him, and she says Alexis was there, and she didn’t want to risk upsetting him. He says, if all that happened was Franco bringing up old memories, why would he be upset?

Alexis asks why Franco would want to hire her. Does he know his father is a lawyer? Scott Baldwin. He says they’ve met, and Alexis says she’s sure Scotty would be happy to represent him. Franco says, thanks to him, he’s wearing an ankle monitor. She says she can’t represent him; it’s a conflict of interest. He says, with Franco? He’s not him. She tells him, so he says. Her daughter might see it differently.

Nina tells Sasha that she and her mother weren’t close, and as an adult, the relationship was toxic. As a child, her mother alternated between overbearing and indifferent. She swore she’s be better with her own child. For the longest time, she didn’t think it was possible, then Sasha came into her life and changed everything. She has to get better. Sasha nods, and Nina says they have a lot of catching up to do, and they have to see Paris. Charlotte will be desperate for Sasha’s advice when she’s a teenager too. Don’t give up on their future together. Sasha says she won’t. Valentin looks through the window.

Brad tells Obrecht, Sasha not being Nina’s daughter makes no sense. There were two DNA tests. Obrecht says, a DNA test is only as good as the security around it. Who should know better than him? Do whatever he must. Brad says he doesn’t want to break more laws, and she says, how noble. He says, especially for her, and she says, but he will. He says he’s done with that stuff. He’s committed to be a law abiding citizen. She says all she has to do is tell Michael that his child is alive and well, and living with Brad and his husband. She’d hate to have to do it, but if he forces her hand…

Sonny tells Carly that he wants to make sure Dev is taken care of. Dev earned that; Dev saved his life. Carly gets it. He wants to help Dev, but there’s a big difference between letting him live there, and legally adopting him. Sonny says sorry to spring it on her. Carly says, it’s forever. Dev will always be part of their family, like the rest of the kids. He says he understands, and understands she thinks it’s a bad idea. Carly says she won’t say yes unless the kids are on board. If they commit to Dev, they commit to him as a family. Is he ready to have that conversation?

Michael comes back to Sasha’s room. Nina tells Sasha to think about where she wants to go on their Paris trip, and Sasha says, will do. Michael takes Nina’s place by the bed, and says, so Paris? Sasha says, she, Nina, and Charlotte are going together as soon as she’s well. Nina says she’ll be right outside. In the hallway, Valentin asks if Nina is okay. She says she is. She’s just feeling grateful that she got to know Sasha. If anything happens, at least they had time together. She realizes it’s selfish. She wouldn’t be in this position if Valentin hadn’t found her daughter. Valentin says Sasha has made it this far. He promises they’ll have years and years.

Obrecht asks Brad what his answer is, and he says, all right. He’ll make sure Sasha and Nina’s DNA match. She knew he would make a reasonable decision. He says, after this is done, she can’t hold it over him forever. She says, look who’s making demands, and he says, damn right. Do him a favor though. Does he have her word? She says, of course (🍷). If he can’t hold her to her word, who can he trust? She leaves, and Brad leans against the wall, sliding down it.

Kim tells Julian that she didn’t want a scene. That’s why she didn’t say anything. He thinks she was right the first time. The situation is causing too much stress. There’s no reason she can’t leave immediately. She doesn’t need to be there. The staff can watch over Charlie’s. He doesn’t need to stay. He tells her, let’s just go. He really thinks it’s the best thing for them. They can be setting up in Manhattan by this time next week. She says, sounds great.

Franco asks Alexis if he did something to her daughter. She says she won’t give him details, but his actions were unforgivable. He says he’s sensing a trend. She says she can’t get involved. He’ll have to find representation someplace else. Good luck. He asks if she means that, and she says, actually, she does.

Mac tells Jordan, they have to organize having Andre’s room to be monitored around the clock. Drew not showing up is a bad sign. Andre’s attacker might try again. They can’t give him a chance to get to him.

Peter tells Finn that he doesn’t want to interrupt Anna’s secret spy mission. Finn says he won’t. She won’t pick up if that’s the case, and he can leave a voicemail. Peter asks Finn to just pass along a message. He’s looking forward to seeing her when she gets back. He hopes to do better, and he’s sorry he judged her so harshly. Real life can take you places you can’t anticipate. You wind up compromising in ways you never thought you could. Tell his mother that he’s thinking about her.

Sam sees Jason and Elizabeth at the hospital, and says she got Jason’s text. He says, Andre got stabbed, and Elizabeth says they can’t locate Drew. Sam says, he’s in Afghanistan, but Jason says, Drew should have landed by now. Any calls go to voicemail. Sam has an idea. She’s still on the account for the private jet. She calls, and gives them her account number. She says she wants to know if the jet landed in Afghanistan. She thanks them, and says, Drew’s flight never arrived. Elizabeth says, not yet? and Sam says, it disappeared. It fell off the radar. It’s as if it just vanished.

Tomorrow, Obrecht asks if Brad is threatening her, Jax suggests Josslyn live with him, and Nelle tells Shiloh they can help each other.

💰 On Million Dollar Listing: New York, Ryan took Amelia’s advice, and decided to focus on what he could control. He was back at the LifeSaver loft, he had an intimate showing with only five brokers, each with a client in another state. He told us from an average open house, he might get 10% that are interested, but all of them will eat all his food. This time, he had 100% interest. The apartment on Great Jones Street was ready to go, and Ryan said his events were always about having fun. Since people always asked about the origin of the street name, he made up a character called Sam Jones, and dressed up like Napoleon. He threw a huge bash, where Steve showed up. Deciding to rain on Ryan’s parade, he said that Ryan’s costume was just distracting, but IMO Ryan was right that his open house would be remembered, rather than the ones by the brokers in boring suits. He wanted to make the brokers to have a positive experience in the space. Despite the nearby construction, Ryan got an offer for the LifeSaver pied a terre, by intimating that the buyer could lose the apartment to another offer. He told us you can never say there is offer if there isn’t, but you can say another party is interested and going to make offer. Deal taken.

Fredrik convinced the seller with the million dollar parking spot, that they were never going to sell it for a million. The seller finally relented when he pointed out there were other apartments for sale in the same building with parking included. They agreed on selling at $7.5 million. Fredrik showed the apartment to Steve’s childhood friend Phil, trying to get stories about Steve from him the entire time. The following potential buyer decided to bring her parrot – named Chris – with her, and it promptly pooped on the coffee table. At least it wasn’t the carpet. Fredrik turned this into a selling point, saying the bird knew it was home. This is why he gets the big bucks.

In other Steve news, Steve’s girlfriend Luiza arrived, and she was welcomed with a huge apartment he’d rented. He this is what he’s dreamed of, and the reason he bought a five-bedroom house in the Hamptons. He always wanted family, but just had to find the right person at the right time.

Tyler Whitman is the new broker in town. He’d been on the operational side of real estate until two years ago. A former fatty, he’d had weight loss surgery, something he heavily promoted throughout the show. He even told us that only 2% of people who lose weight the natural way keep it off. Um… I don’t think so. He seems a little addicted to the idea, and no surprise he turned to fitness when he couldn’t turn to food. He seems like a nice guy, but a little sad, covering it up with his loud personality. From the South, he moved to NYC, excited to be a free gay man, but he felt poorly judged and body shamed for being overweight by other gay men. He told his trainer that instead of eating three times a day, he ate three meals for each meal. Tipping the scales at 387 pounds, he lost the weight, but now feels there’s a stigma because he had surgery. Perhaps if he’d tone down his promotion of it just a tad… He did give us the best quote of the night. While walking through a seller’s apartment, it was noted that they’d turned a walk-in closet into a nursery. Not missing a beat, he said, the sooner you get the kids out of the closet, the better.

This season, Derek isn’t happy living in L.A., Steve takes a carriage ride, Luis is excited about being a father, and Amelia goes into labor.

General Hospital

Jason tells a prison guard that he needs privacy to confer with his client. The guard leaves, and Harmony asks when did she become his client, and when did he become a lawyer? He thinks she knows why he’s there. She says he wants to shake her faith in Shiloh, but he can’t. He asks if Shiloh has come to see her. Has he sent a lawyer? Has she heard from him at all? How much faith can she have left?

Dressed in a waitress uniform, Sam introduces herself to Carol. She says she’s sorry she’s late. Her car battery died and she had to get a jump. Carol says she didn’t know they were hiring a new waitress. Sam says she’s temporary, and just there to help.

Kristina tells Alexis that she wants to talk to Neil with her. She wants to share what she said in her Pledge. Alexis says Kristina will have to discuss with Neil. Kristina goes into his office, and tells him she had a breakthrough. As long as she’s hiding something, she’s giving Shiloh power. She needs to tell her mom, but she needs him to be with them. If she doesn’t say something now, she’s afraid she never will. He invites them both in.

Josslyn asks Cameron, since when did his mom and Franco decide on having a reception? He says they kept putting it off, and he was hoping they’d give up, but they’re having it tomorrow on The Haunted Star. Dev wonders what’s terrible about a party. Music, dancing, and free food. Josslyn tells him, stay out of it. Dev thinks she should go with him. Michael comes in, and asks, go where? Josslyn says, none of his business. He can’t barge in on a conversation and start interrogating people. He says she’s right, and that he hasn’t met Dev. Josslyn introduces him as Sonny’s cousin.

At the MetroCourt, Brick asks what Sonny needs, and Sonny says protection for a friend who he wants to be a member of the family. Brick asks, which family? and Sonny says, the Corbins. He wants his friend to be a cousin on his father’s side. His name is Dev Cerci. Brick says, it sounds Turkish, and Sonny says, it is. Dev pickpocketed him, and then saved his life. Brick likes him already, and Sonny says, he needs citizenship sooner than later. Sonny sees Shiloh sitting with Zahra at the bar, and says, son of a bitch. He tells Brick to give him a minute. Brick says, this should be entertaining.

Sonny approaches Zahra, and says he doesn’t think they’ve met. She introduces herself, and he asks what brings her to the MetroCourt? Shiloh says he’s having dinner with his attorney, and Sonny says whatever Shiloh is paying her, he’ll pay her double to quit.

Neil asks if Alexis has any objections to him seeing Kristina with her. She says, no, and he says he’ll facilitate as best he can. Kristina says when Shiloh asked her for a Pledge, he wanted a secret. Looking back, she knows he wanted something to use as blackmail, so that’s what she gave him. Not something he could use against her, but against her mom.

Michael says whatever Cameron is inviting Josslyn to, he thinks she should go. He leaves, and Josslyn says she hopes Cameron doesn’t do that to Jake or Aiden when they’re older. Cameron asks what she means, and she says, assume he knows more about their lives than they do. Michael has no idea, but he pretty much ordered her to go to Elizabeth and Franco’s wedding reception. Dev says the stress of going might crush a fragile flower like her. She should definitely stay home.

Carol tells Sam that they split tips, but Sam says she just started, and doesn’t need Carol’s money. Carol asks why she’s there then, and Sam says, Shiloh. She mentions Carol’s dog, and Carol says she did everything Shiloh said for her to do. She went to prison and kept her mouth shut. Please don’t hurt her dog. Sam says she’s just there to get Carol’s statement.

Jason tells Harmony that he’s Investigating the murder of her late husband Douglas Miller. She says, he wasn’t murdered; he OD’d. Jason asks when she saw him last, and Harmony says that’s none of his business. He says Douglas called her daughter. Shiloh was there, and encouraged her to take the call, then encouraged her to meet him. They were supposed to meet that night, but Shiloh decided to initiate her instead. She asks if Kelly (aka Willow) told him this. He says she led the ceremony, right? While she was drugging and tattooing her own child, Shiloh was murdering her father.

Kristina tells Neil, Kiefer was abusive. The first time, he put her in the hospital, and she covered for him, blaming someone else. When Kiefer beat her up again, her mom found her in an old house by the lake. She was pretty out of it when they were driving to the hospital, and her mom hit Kiefer with her car. Alexis says, it was an accident. It was dark, the middle of the night. She was emotional, and didn’t see him until it was too late. Kristina says she was unconscious, and didn’t see what happened, but she told Shiloh that she did. She lied, and said she was awake and saw Alexis deliberately run him down. She told Shiloh that Alexis did it on purpose.

Billy walks into the diner. He sees Sam, and says she’s not Carol. Sam says, Carol had to check on Jeremy, and Billy asks if Carol mentioned that Jeremy is a dog. Sam says she did, and Billy asks if she can believe the way Carol fusses over him. He introduces himself, and asks what brings her to Beecher’s Corners?

Harmony says Jason is lying. Him being there is a lie. He’s not a lawyer; he’s a killer, a man of violence. He was tried twice for murder. Jason asks how she knows about him, and she says she’s good at research. He’s the one who contacted her before. Jason tells her that Shiloh came after Sam. She’d conned his father, and he tracked her down. He targeted Kristina as a way to get to Sam, and Harmony helped. It’s pretty twisted. She says he doesn’t know anything about them, and he says, her daughter is a different story. She owes her daughter the truth about how her father died.

Dev says he knows receptions are a fun party – he’s crashed a few – but if it’s so boring and difficult for her, stay home. Josslyn says if it was important to Cameron, he would have said so. Dev says he can’t help her if she won’t help herself. Trina walks in, and asks why Josslyn is yelling. Josslyn says Dev is staying with them for the summer. Thank God it’s halfway over. Dev introduces himself, and says Trina has excellent timing. She asks what he did to make Josslyn mad.

Shiloh says Sonny can’t bribe his attorney. Zahra says she does family law, and asks if Sonny needs representation. Sonny says he has joint custody of his little girl, and her mother is a problem. Zahra says it’s tempting, but she has to pass. She has a full case load. He says she looks like someone who likes to work, and she says she is. He says she needs better clients. If she changes her mind… He gives her his card, and goes back to the table. Brick says, Shiloh doesn’t look very happy, and Sonny says, good.

Jason tells Harmony, Shiloh was born David Henry Archer. He was a military contractor, and met Jason’s twin, Drew, in Iraq. Drew saved Shiloh’s life, but Shiloh came back to no money, so he decided to start DOD. Harmony says, he had a spiritual awakening, and Jason asks how long it’s been since she really believed that? Shiloh wrote a book, and gathered followers. She became his fixer, his right hand, and when he wanted her daughter, Harmony handed her over. She knew it was wrong, but had to keep believing. Like an alcoholic, she was afraid to face herself and what she’d done to the people she loves.

Sam tells Billy that she just wanted peace and quiet, and somewhere safe. He asks if she’s heard of Dawn of Day, and she says, no; why? He says, they’re a community service organization. They’re good people, very welcoming. She might want to look them up. Carol comes back, and he says he was just telling Sam about Shiloh.

Neil asks why Kristina chose to lie about the incident, and she says, it was the kind of secret Shiloh wanted, so she pretended she was a witness. He asks how Alexis feels about that, and she says she understands the pressure. She gets that Kristina was desperate to please Shiloh, and was confused, but given everything her father has done, why choose something about her? Kristina says it seemed like less of a betrayal to lie about something that didn’t happen, than say something that might be true about her dad. A simpler explanation is that she wanted Shiloh to think she was important. She’s an idiot. Alexis saved her, and she lied to get Shiloh’s approval. Alexis says it hurt her, but it doesn’t compare to how proud she is of Kristina. She broke Shiloh’s hold over her, and it took courage. She’s not an idiot. She’s brave and smart. Kristina says, not recently, but Alexis says she was smart enough to get help. Lots of smart people, including herself, don’t. Kristina asks if Alexis forgives her, and Alexis says she’s Kristina’s mother. She’ll always forgive her. Kristina hugs her.

Trina asks, why the drama? and Dev says Cameron invited Josslyn to a wedding reception, which she considers a hideous ordeal. Josslyn tells Trina, she never said that. She didn’t even turn him down before Dev barged in making pronouncements. Dev says he was making an observation, and she says, whatever it was, it’s not needed or wanted. They can figure out for themselves if Cameron needs her to go.

Brick asks what Sonny knows about Shiloh. Sonny says, the cops will be sending him to prison, and accidents happen.

Obviously charmed, Zahra asks if Shiloh thinks Sonny breaks out those dimples for every lawyer. She wants to talk about the case, since she’s billing him for her time. He says he found his son; he’s Wiley Cooper Jones. Zahra says knowing that is one thing, but proving it is another.

Sonny asks if Brick remembers locating his cousin Gladys, like it was years ago and not last week. He’s going to say her son got married overseas, and his wife tragically died giving birth. Can he make that work? Brick asks if Dev can pass as an American, and Sonny says, he has a perfect accent from watching TV and movies. They’ll fill in his back story, and grill him until he can pass. Brick doesn’t think it will be easy, but Sonny says, Ankara is on the other side of the world and Dev has been through a lot. He’s resilient and thinks on his feet. Brick asks if he reminds Sonny of someone, and Sonny says, himself. Kids from the streets are all the same. They do what they can to survive. Brick hears that. He asks what Sonny’s plans are for Dev, and Sonny says he wants to get him an education. Brick says, it sounds like a do-over; giving Dev a chance Sonny didn’t have. Sonny says, maybe. Or maybe he just sees potential. Brick says, surprise, surprise.

Shiloh tells Zahra that his son was in front of him for months. He even held him. Once he has Wiley, Willow will have no choice but to come back to him. She asks if his goal is to reclaim his child or his child’s mother, and he says, all of it. He wants the family he was meant to have.

Michael sees Brick and Sonny, and says, sorry to interrupt, but he has a quick question. He stopped by the house, and Josslyn introduced him to Sonny’s cousin. What’s going on there? Sonny says, it’s simple. He’s paying back a debt.

Cameron tells Dev that his mom loves Franco, and his brothers think Franco is great. He doesn’t want to wreck things, so he has to go. It would be great if Josslyn comes, but he won’t have a nervous breakdown if she doesn’t. Dev is right about one thing. There will be music, dancing, and plenty of food. It might actually be fun.

Jason says Harmony gave Shiloh her daughter, and covered for him when he killed her husband. She says, Kelly had doubts about the initiation. She wanted to meet with her father, but Harmony pressured her, telling her it was an honor. She gave Kelly the tea, and put Shiloh’s tattoo on her, knowing she was sending Kelly to Shiloh’s bed. She thought that’s why Doug killed himself; the pain of what she did to his daughter was too much for him. Jason says she can still do what he wanted. She can still protect their daughter from Shiloh.  She asks what he wants her to do.

Billy tells Sam that Carol is a member of DOD. Carol says, they do outreach for the underserved. Billy adds, they have classes and social events. It’s a good way to meet people. Carol tells him, no charge, but he pays anyway, saying they deserve the tip. Sam hopes to see him at a social event, and he says he’ll find her again. Don’t worry. He leaves, and Sam asks if everything was okay with Jeremy. Carol says he was curled up, snoozing. She’s sorry she didn’t believe Sam when she said wouldn’t hurt him. Sam says she had every right. She’s been lied to by many people. Carol says, not Sam, Michael, or Jason. They told her the truth. Now it’s her turn.

Brick asks Sonny, what if Dev gets picked up, panics, and tells the truth? Sonny says, he won’t. He doesn’t know Dev well, but Dev saved his life.

Zahra tells Shiloh that they have a lot of hurdles to get over before a family reunion. It’s not easy to prove. Shiloh takes out the burp cloth, and says he grabbed it from Brad. They can do a DNA test. She says, it won’t be admissible. At best, they can get a judge to order a second one. He asks why she’s so negative, and she asks if he was paying attention at the hearing. Willow’s attorney will use the laws to fight his every step.

Kristina sees Sonny’s table, and says she hit the jackpot. Sonny says, what’s up, firecracker? She notices Shiloh, and asks what he’s doing there. Sonny says, take it easy, and she says she’ll be right back. Brick says, it looks like Shiloh needs to choose another restaurant.

Kristina asks why Zahra is sitting with this sleazy perv. Shiloh says his son will soon be returned to him, and Kristina says, don’t bet on it.

Josslyn tells Cameron that she’s not ready. She went to the Nurses Ball and sang because Oscar wanted her too, but she was miserable the whole time. She thanks him for the invite, but no. Cameron says, no big deal. Trina says her mom is having a responsible parent moment. She hopes it passes soon, but she has to go. She’s calling an Uber, and offers to drop Cameron off. She tells Dev, nice to meet him, and he says, the pleasure was his. Trina and Cameron leave, and Josslyn asks if Dev was flirting. He says he was being polite, and she says he was being obnoxious. He asks if Michael didn’t say to be kinder and less judgmental. She suggests he work on being less annoying.

Jason says, on August 4th, 2014, Harmony’s daughter told her that she was meeting her father. Did anyone else know? Harmony says, Shiloh. He told her that her daughter’s initiation was that same night, so Harmony pressured her to cancel with her father. Kelly was reluctant, but eventually agreed. Jason asks when the initiation began, and she says, 9 pm. He asks where Shiloh was, and she says he escorted Kelly to the initiation, per tradition, and wished her a joyous transformation. He said he’d be with her afterwards, and left until midnight, also traditional. Then, he’s left alone with the initiate. Jason says, he had a three hour window. Plenty of time to go to Douglas’s hotel room and kill him.

Carol reads her statement as Sam films it. She says that Shiloh said she could save him. The police would believe her, and if she made the sacrifice, he would go free.

Alexis goes back to Neil’s office, and thanks him for the session with Kristina. He’s been both a translator and referee. She doesn’t think they’d be in the place they are now without his help. He says they did the work, and she says she seriously apologizes for intruding on his life. Her friend saw them together, misconstrued their relationship, and checked his background. She knows that doesn’t absolve her. She chose to look and deeply regrets it. He says, so does he.

Michael wants to stop Kristina, but Sonny says, let her speak.

Kristina says Shiloh belongs in prison for attempted rape, among other things. He says, the charges were dropped. She tells him Sam will be thrilled to testify against him, and if he thinks he can blackmail her, think again. She burned her Pledge, and told her mother what was in it. By the way, she lied to impress him. How sad is that? He says what’s sad is the progress she’s lost. She says the karma he teaches about is a bitch, and it’s coming back to him. She walks away, and Zahra says, she’ll make a compelling witness, but Shiloh says nothing matters except getting a DNA test to prove his son is Wiley. Brick wonders where Kristina got her fire from. She says from her dad, and hugs Sonny.

Alexis tells Neil, the truth is, she finds him easy to talk to. She’s able to share things she’s not able to share with other people. He’s glad she found their sessions productive, but a sound patient/therapist relationship only works if there’s trust on both sides, and he doesn’t trust her anymore. She says she realizes she didn’t solely relate to him as a therapist. She thinks of him as a friend. The irony is that she has friends, but needs a good therapist. She’ll miss this. He asks, how’s Tuesday at five? and she says she’ll be there.

Trina asks if Cameron wants to go to Perks or the park. He thought she had to go home, but she says, it was just an excuse to leave and give Josslyn room to change her mind. Cameron doesn’t want Josslyn to change her mind. He doesn’t want her to be miserable. Trina says, Josslyn isn’t afraid of that. She’s afraid of having fun. It will mean she’s moving on. Cameron asks if Josslyn told her that or she’s guessing. She says she pays attention and picks up on things. That’s how she knows he’s dreading the reception. He shouldn’t have to face it alone, so she’ll be his date, but she’s warning him that she’ll expect to dance. He says he’s not good dancer, and she says, tough.

Josslyn sees Dev eating a bowl of ice cream, and says, he just helped himself? He says he made her one too, but she says, that’s not the point. This isn’t his house. He asks if he’s supposed to stay in his room, and she says she didn’t say that. He shouldn’t serve himself. He says he was in the right place at the right time, and did a favor. If he gets deported tomorrow, at least he’ll have had ice cream tonight. She supposes she shouldn’t let it go to waste, and sits across from him.

Sam thinks the video will be enough to get a judge to issue a subpoena for Carol to come to Port Charles and issue an official statement. Carol says, it might sound crazy… and Sam says, of course (🍷) you can bring your dog. Carol says, not everyone in DOD is bad. Most of them are decent people who lost their way, like she did. Shiloh gave them a place to belong. Sam says he’s the one who took advantage of them. He’s at fault, and the tide just turned against him.

Jason tells Harmony the body was discovered, and Shiloh was arrested. What did she do then? She says she told one of the faithful, Carol, that Shiloh needed to see her. She went in alone, and when she came out, she confessed. Jason asks where Carol was that night, and Harmony says, at the initiation with the rest of the Trust. Jason asks if Carol had access to the drug that killed Douglas, but she says, Carol didn’t even know what it was. He asks if anyone else had access, and she says it’s the same drug Shiloh had her put in the tea to calm the initiates and lower their resistance. He asks where they got it. She tells him, a pharmacy. Shiloh has a prescription. Jason asks what name he used, and she says, his real name, David Henry Archer. 

On Monday, Ava tells the psychic that she came to talk about Kiki, Brad tells Julian that Shiloh thinks Wiley is his son, and the wedding reception finally happens.
