What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the gym (not Sonny’s), Finn spots while Chase lifts weights, and he asks if Chase wants to take a break, but Chase says, no. Gregory tells Chase, go easy. The last time he overdid it, he ended up in the hospital with a bum shoulder. Finn says, half of that was Chase’s fault; the other half was Brook.

On the phone, Brook says she’s watching Wiley and Amelia while Willow rests upstairs. Drop everything and get over here… She doesn’t care if they’re at the hair salon. She has a critical mission for them, and they have to accept it.

On the phone in her office, Alexis says, Allison has an in with the coastguard, so she needs Allison to find out whatever she can about the Haunted Star. Sam walks in, and Alexis says, same thing with government leaks, If they’re credible, find them. Sam says, this is actually why she’s here. Dante’s been working hard on the investigation, but hasn’t said anything about Victor. Has Alexis heard anything? Alexis says, the Haunted Star is gone from its mooring, there’s no accounting for it. They believe there’s three hostages, but that’s all she knows. Sam says, if anything new comes in, will Alexis please keep her updated? and Alexis says she will, if Sam does the same for her. She heard Sam was in court this morning. What’s up?

Curtis says, Trina is coming home, even if he has to bring her home himself, and Portia thanks him for being here and wanting to help find Trina. He says he can’t just sit around, knowing all the danger that faces his daughter… her daughter.

Jordan says, she and Laura are friends as well as colleagues. This plan she’s been working on with Felicia and Robert to take Victor down, what is it? And why didn’t Laura tell her about it? Laura says, Anna was a fugitive at the time. If she’d involved Jordan, Laura would have compromised her. They all talked about it, and decided the smart thing to do would be continue with the plan until they could find proof that it was Victor who was behind Luke’s death. Jordan asks how that worked out for her, and Laura says she knew she was dealing with a dangerous man. She didn’t know he’d disappear on the Haunted Star, and make her grandsons and Dr. Obrecht and Trina Robinson all disappear with him.

Obrecht says, if Victor thinks she’s going to help him, he’s truly lost his geist (mind), and Victor says he does love it when she speaks German to him. But let’s be honest, she has done worse, and if she chooses not to cooperate, he promises the consequences will be dire. Spencer jumps up, grabs Obrecht in a headlock, and drags her out of her chair, putting a knife to her throat. Victor asks what he’s doing, and Spencer says, he needs Obrecht to protect his family? No Obrecht, no plan. Watkins holds a gun on him, and Obrecht says, do something. Victor sits back, sips his coffee, and says, have at it. Is he from New Jersey?

Trina hides outside the communications room, and says, what’s taking so long with the diversion, Spencer? She bumps into the fire extinguisher, and one of Victor’s goons says, what was that?

Sam says, Alexis had a reporter at the courthouse, and Alexis tells her, he said Cody Bell was arrested for grand larceny, and Sam bailed him out. Why? Sam says, because Cody is Dante’s friend, and he needed help, and Alexis asks why Dante didn’t help him. Sam says, because he’s busy searching for Victor, and Alexis says, so Sam thought she’d just step in? Sam says, if Alexis wants to hear the whole story, she’ll tell her. Sasha Gilmore had a very expensive bracelet on loan, and Gladys Corbin was wearing it at the time. Gladys, who’s not the most reliable narrator, said the bracelet just magically disappeared off her wrist, and said bracelet appeared in the pocket of Cody’s jacket, which he was not wearing at the time. Alexis says, that doesn’t mean he’s innocent, and Sam asks, what happened to her mother the lawyer, who believed all defendants were innocent until proven guilty? and Alexis says, she got disbarred. She was under the impression Sam didn’t trust Cody. Sam says she told Alexis that she’s handling this. Alexis has enough to deal with. Alexis says, fine. She’s not going to interfere where she’s not wanted. Sam asks if she really means that, and Alexis says she’s trying. If Sam really doesn’t want her involved in this business with Cody, she won’t be involved. Sam asks if she’s been hit in the head, but Alexis says she’s just been told off. Sam says, by Gregory, and Alexis nods.

Chase says, if he’s pushing it, it’s because of his nerves. The CCRB meets later today. Gregory says, Finn told him that Brook had something to do with him getting a second chance, and Chase says, Brook got the Board to take another look at his case. Gregory says, that’s good news, right? and Chase says, maybe. Or maybe he wouldn’t have needed a second chance if Brook submitted her letter the first time the Board met.

Maxie walks into the gatehouse with her new darker hair, and says, this better be good. She had to skip the conditioning treatment. Brook says, her hair looks amazing (I like it), but they’ll talk about that another time. How are James and Georgie doing? Maxie says she had to tell them that their oma disappeared because she wanted to make their magic act a success. Georgie didn’t buy it, but James believes it, so Georgie is pretending to believe it too. Brook says she’s so sorry about Liesl. She knows how much Maxie cares about her, and it must be driving her nuts. Maxie says she can’t believe it’s happening. She keeps telling herself that Mac and the PCPD will leave no stone unturned, and if anyone can take care of themselves, it’s Liesl. Brook says, she’s a formidable woman, and Maxie says, but still, Victor Cassadine is a scary guy, and how long can Willow wait for the bone marrow transplant? Brook says, speaking of Willow, Maxie is going to plan her wedding to Michael.

Portia says, Curtis always cared for Trina, and he says, Trina is a remarkable young woman, and he was looking forward to being a part of her family, officially. Portia says, he is a part of her family. She and Trina are very lucky they have him on their side. He asks if she’ll be okay, and she says she refuses to fall apart, but she’s far from okay. He says he feels her, and leaves. She heaves a sigh, and says, please, please, please.

Victor’s goons draw their guns, but they hear their radio say, all units come to the main cabin. They keep moving, and Trina slips into the communications office.

Spencer tells Victor not to underestimate him. He’ll do anything to save his brother from Victor. Victor says, doesn’t he understand? If he kills Dr. Obrecht, he simply seals his baby brother’s fate.

Maxie tells Brook, back up. Michael and Willow rescheduled their wedding until after the bone marrow transplant. They’re getting married in July. Brook says, because Willow’s bone marrow transplant was supposed to be today, and Maxie says, oh my God. She doesn’t think she’s going to make it until Liesl gets home. Brook says, no one knows when Liesl is going to be found… and Maxie says, or if she will, but Brook tells her, stay positive. Liesl will be found, but she understands Willow’s concern. She and Michael want to be married. They don’t want to risk waiting, so they moved the date up. Maxie says she’ll help in any way she can. What are they thinking, end of the month? Brook says, tomorrow, and Maxie says, I’m sorry, what? Brook says, too soon, she knows, but everybody is pitching in, and they need her. Maxie says, to plan a wedding? In less than 24 hours? Brook says, Maxie planned the Nurses Ball in record time, and Maxie asks if she should count all the ways it went wrong. Brook says, count all the ways it went right. Compared to the Nurses Ball’s 60th anniversary, planning a wedding in less than 24 hours is a literal piece of cake. Maxie says, brew some coffee, and make it strong. She’ll plan this wedding… Brook interrupts her with a hug and runs to the kitchen.

Gregory says he’s sorry he brought up Brook, and Chase says, forget it. Who wants to do more reps? Finn says, no thanks, and Gregory tells him, what his brother said. Chase says, Gregory has barely broken a sweat today, and Gregory says, because he doesn’t actively need to avoid his feelings. Chase wonders why Gregory cares so much about him and Brook, and Finn says, maybe because Gregory loves him? Gregory says he loves both his boys, and wants them both to be happy. So sue him. Chase says, Brook did make him happy. She also hurt and disappointed him. She held off on writing her letter of support because she didn’t want him to get his badge back. She wanted him to focus on music. Supposedly, the plan was to expose her manager as a predator, so he couldn’t extort or harass any other women; and for Brook to get her songs back. Instead, she signed a non-disclosure agreement with Linc. He gave her songs back, and she agreed to keep quiet. Brook sold out. Finn says, that’s pretty tough to get past, and Gregory says, from what he understands, Brook more than redeemed herself at the Nurses Ball. She broke the non-disclosure agreement, and outed this Linc Brown as a serial harasser. Chase says, she did, and he respects that, but as long as he’s known her, Brook has always put her own interests first, and apologized afterward. And no matter how he feels about her, he can’t trust her.

Alexis says she and Gregory had a run-in, and Sam says, another one? Alexis says, that, compounded with the mess she made the first time when she went to Gregory’s boss behind his back, and Sam says, maybe she shouldn’t have called his boss, but that’s what a good friend would do. Alexis says, speaking of, let’s go back to Cody and Dante. He seems to know as much about Cody as he doesn’t know. Sam says she told Alexis that she’s dealing with this; they’re talking about Gregory now. Whatever happened? Does he have a drinking problem? Alexis says, Gregory doesn’t have a drinking problem, and Sam says she knows Alexis has been concerned about him. If not a drinking problem, then what is it?

Jordan says she knows better than anyone that the best of intentions can have unforeseen results, and while she’s not thrilled Laura chose not to involve the PCPD, she does understand. But things have changed, and she needs Laura to keep her in the loop. Laura says, Felicia is tracking someone down who may be able to help them find Victor, and Jordan asks, who is it, and does she need back-up? Laura says, not yet. Jordan will be the first one to know if they do. All hands on deck. Curtis comes along, and says, if that’s the case, count him in.

Spencer says, without Liesl, Victor’s plan is a non-starter. If she’s not around to make a vaccine, Victor risks his own life, as well as that of Spencer and his little brother. Victor says, it’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make. All that matters is, the world is set to right, so go ahead, kill Liesl. Is Spencer wiling to risk his baby brother will survive what’s coming next? His blood will be on Spencer’s hands. Spencer sees Watkins and Ambrose have their guns on him, and begins to drag Obrecht toward the exit. The other two guards run in, and Victor tells them, cover the exits. Your move, Spencer. Spencer lets Obrecht go, and she says, Cassadines are demented; one has her abducted, the other holds her at knifepoint. Steinmaur’s too good for the pair of them. Victor says he knew Spencer would see reason. Get rid of him.

Trina looks around, and finds a radio, but gets nothing but static. She picks up a portable phone from the 80s, and begs it to work. Apparently, the equipment hasn’t been updated since Luke and Laura’s wedding.

On the phone, Maxie thanks Leah, and says, let’s do that. She’ll be in touch. She tells Brook, it’s a little early, but she has peonies. She’ll make all the flower arrangements, and the rose petals for the flower girl. Brook says, flower girls, plural; Donna and Avery. The only family member slated not to participate in the wedding is Amelia. Maxie asks if Olivia is going to bake the cake, and Brook says, try and stop her. She is determined to cook all the food for this wedding. Maxie is sure it will all be delicious, and says, they need something to elevate the occasion; make it special. Does Brook think it’s too late to get monogrammed napkins for Portugal? Brook suggests they take some of the pressure off this thing. All Willow really wants is a joyful and happy day with her friends and family. Maxie says she’s got it. A special song just for them. Brook could write it; Chase could perform it. Brook says she’d be happy to write a song for Willow and Michael, but she doesn’t think Chase would perform it. Maxie asks, why not? It’s for Willow. Brook says, but that would mean he’d have to work with her.

Gregory says, Brook might have the capacity to change. History has shown them… Finn says, please, no lectures, but Gregory tells Chase, all he’s saying is, Brook made a huge personal sacrifice when she exposed Linc. She put other people ahead of herself when she ignored the NDA and outed him. Doesn’t that show she’s changed? Chase says, Brook has a big heart, no question. That’s why he fell in love with her, but she has a habit of acting on her worst impulses and hurting everyone around her. Gregory says, it sounds like Chase has made up his mind about her, and Chase says, don’t make him sound like the bad guy. Gregory says he thought he taught his sons to be open to second chances, and Finn says, he did. So when does Alexis get hers?

Alexis says, Gregory told her on no uncertain terms that his life is none of her business, and that whatever he’s going through, he’s determined to go through it alone, and Sam says, sometimes people need to figure things out for themselves. Maybe the best thing Alexis can do right now is offer Gregory her support, and trust he’ll reach out to her if he needs her. Alexis says, he won’t, and Sam says, it drives Alexis crazy, doesn’t it, because she sees someone who needs help and wants to help them. Alexis says, it’s a curse. It’s why she became a lawyer. Sam says, he doesn’t need a lawyer, and he doesn’t need Alexis’s help, so why can’t she just let this go? Alexis says, because it doesn’t matter what he says, he does need her help. As far as she knows, she’s the only one who knows that he has a problem. So what is she supposed to do? Just sit back and do nothing?

Curtis says he’ll do anything to make sure Trina gets home safely, when Laura’s phone rings. She steps away, and Jordan says she appreciates the offer. He says, but? and she says, Victor Cassadine is dangerous. Curtis says, and he has Trina. Believe him. Victor won’t see him coming. Jordan says, just trust that they have every available resource looking for Victor and his hostages. If there’s something he can do, she’ll let him know. The truth is, there’s not a lot any of them can do right now. They don’t even know where to look for the Haunted Star, so for now it’s best that he just sit tight. He says, not while Trina’s in trouble. If she won’t let him help the PCPD, there are others he can turn to. She says, he means like Sonny Corinthos? Or Selina Wu?

In her office, Portia tries to record some patient details, but throws down the recorder, and puts her head in her hands. She cries, looking at a photo of her and Trina, when her phone rings, saying, unknown caller. She puts it down, but picks it up again when it continues to ring. Trina says, it’s her, and Portia says, thank God. Where is she? They’ve been so worried about her. Trina peeks out the door, and says she’s on the Haunted Star. Victor took Spencer, the baby, and Dr. Obrecht. He’s taking them somewhere. Portia says, and he took her too. Is she okay? How is Trina calling her right now? Trina says, he doesn’t know she’s here. She followed Spencer and got stuck on board. She doesn’t know where they are. She needs Portia’s help. Portia tells her, hang on. Help is on the way. She runs out of her office.

Maxie says she doesn’t understand. Brook outed that creep Linc at the Nurses Ball. Brook asks what that has to do with her and Chase, and Maxie says she saw the look on Chase’s face when Brook laid into that skeevy manager. He was so proud of her. She assumed when it was all over, Chase would sweep Brook into his arms, and say, all is forgiven. Brook says she didn’t break her NDA and expose Linc to get back together with Chase. She did it because she couldn’t keep quiet for another second and let that creep exploit another woman. Maxie says, and that’s a side of her that Chase hasn’t seen before. She knows Brook didn’t out Linc for Chase, but it is what Chase wanted. And maybe now he realizes his life is empty without Brook, and they can live happily ever after. Brook says she’s done it too many times. Chase thinks she’s selfish. Maxie says, Brook is selfish, and Brook tells her, says the pot calling the kettle black, but Maxie says, selfish with good intentions. She always does the right thing in the end. She just makes some questionable decisions along the way. Chase knew that. He fell in love with her anyway. He will again. Brook says she doubts it. The CCRB meeting is today, and Chase will get his life back; a life she’s not a part of.

Chase says he thinks Finn has a good point, but Gregory says, Chase’s situation with Brook is completely different from his with Alexis. Finn says, of course (🍷). Of course (🍷) it is. How? Gregory says, because his situation with Alexis was never romantic. Love doesn’t come around often. He’d hate to see Chase throw it away. Chase says, love is more complicated than friendship. It requires complete vulnerability to trust another person with your heart. He doesn’t know what Alexis did that was so bad Gregory can’t be friends with her anymore. Gregory flashes back to telling Alexis that he quit his job, and her begging to help him. He says, Alexis overstepped. Chase claims Brook violated his trust, while Alexis did the same to him. Finn says he really doesn’t want to get in the middle of this, and Gregory says, but he will because Alexis is his friend. Finn says, Alexis oversteps because she is who she is. She won’t be deterred if she thinks she’s doing the right thing. But he thinks she’s also proved that she can respect boundaries. Gregory says, that hasn’t been his experience, and Finn asks if he’s not going to give her the chance to show him that she can.

Sam tells Alexis, sometimes that’s what a good friend is all about; just waiting for them to come to you. Alexis says she’s not very good at waiting for people to come to her. It just doesn’t feel natural. She doesn’t have a lot of good friends, but the ones she has, she has this connection with, and she and Gregory have a connection. They have common interests and ethics, common worldviews, and he’s been very supportive of her. She wanted to return the favor, and when she did, she sort of destroyed any connection they did have. So maybe they didn’t have as solid a connection as she thought.

Curtis asks if Jordan is accusing him of something, when Laura comes back, and says, they’re all on the same side, right? He says, right, and Jordan says she promises he’ll be the first to tell if he can help, but she’s asking him for now to back off before he gets himself in too deep. If something were to happen to him… Jordan runs to them, and says, it’s Trina. She has Trina on the phone. Curtis asks, where is she? and Portia says, she’s on the Haunted Star, like they were afraid of. Laura tells Portia to put Trina on speaker, and she does. Jordan tells Trina, this is Commissioner Ashford. She’s here with Curtis and Mayor Collins. Trina says she’s so glad her mom found Jordan. She’s calling from a satellite phone. They’re in open water. She doesn’t know where they are or where Victor’s taking them. Curtis asks if she’s okay. Are Spencer and Ace okay? Trina says, yes. Victor doesn’t know she’s on the ship, and he has Spencer and Dr. Obrecht under armed guard. Jordan says she’ll call IT to pinpoint the location of Trina’s phone, and steps away. Trina says she’s not sure how long she has before the guards come back, and Laura tells her to only stay on the phone as long as she safely can. Trina says, she was trying to find a radio to call for help, but it doesn’t seem to be working, and Laura asks if she’s in the communications room now. Trina says she thinks so. There’s a lot of equipment here, but she doesn’t know what it does. Curtis says, but Laura does, doesn’t she? and Laura says, that ship was her wedding gift.

Spencer and Obrecht are seated in chairs with their hands tied behind their backs, and Obrecht says she wants to know the meaning of this. She didn’t do anything. Victor says, his great nephew reminded him that one can’t be too careful. Spencer disappointed him. Spencer says, the feeling is mutual. He trusted Victor, and then Victor tricked him into meeting on this ship. He’s abducted Spencer’s baby brother, and abducted Britt’s mother. What’s worse is, Victor wants to unleash hell on humanity, including the people Spencer loves. Victor says, tsk, tsk. He’d hoped Spencer had the stomach for this. It turns out, Spencer’s just as weak as his father. Spencer says he’s not weak, but there has to be another way. Victor said it himself, Dr. Obrecht is brilliant, and he thinks between the three of them, they can come up with a solution that will be amicable to everyone here. Victor asks, just why would he believe anything Spencer had to say now? He puts his face a few inches from Spencer’s and says, Spencer betrayed him, and he has to face the consequences.

Victor tells Ambrose to take Dr. Obrecht back to her cabin. He prefers to deal with his family in private. As Obrecht is taken away, Victor says, he’ll have all the information he’s collected on the pathogen sent to her cabin, so she can see he’s right. He tells Spencer, this gives him no pleasure, and Spencer says, forgive him for not believing Victor. Victor asks why Spencer can’t understand that love of family has always been his driving force. It really hurts him that Spencer can’t see that he’s not doing this to him; he’s doing it for him and his brother. Spencer says, let’s work together, but Victor says, it’s way too late for that now. Spencer left him no choice. Spencer says, Victor can’t kill him. Whether Victor likes it or not, he needs Spencer as much as he needs Liesl. With his father and Valentin out of the picture, he is Victor’s heir. Victor says, Spencer is half right. He does have an heir and a spare. He’s allowed his love of family to cloud his judgement too long. All of them have forgotten what it is to be a Cassadine. But it’s not too late for the baby. Victor will raise him and educate him – as a Cassadine. Spencer says, over his dead body, which is probably a poor choice of words, and Victor says, that can be arranged.

Laura tells Trina that she hasn’t been in the communications room in years, but from what she remembers, there was a radar screen. It shows a round circle in the center, and there will be some lines. Can she see something like that? Trina says she sees it, and goes over to the screen. Laura says, in the upper right hand corner of the screen, there will be some numbers. Does she see something that looks like coordinates? Trina says she does, and reads them, but Curtis says, that could be the coordinates from the GPS device Victor tied to the buoy. Jordan asks if Trina can find the heading, and Laura says, it’s the numbers right at the very top. Trina says, 29.369 degrees, and Jordan says she’ll update IT. Trina hears, all units return to posts, and says she’s got to go; she’ll call them back. Curtis asks if that’s the only satellite phone there, and Trina says she thinks so. He says, they’ll notice it’s missing. Whatever she does, do not take it with her. Trina says, got it, and Portia says, it’s gonna be okay. They’re going to find her. Trina tells Portia that she loves her, and Portia says she loves Trina too. Now please just be very, very careful. Trina says she will, and she puts the phone back where she found it. She looks to make sure the hallway is clear, but then looks back and decides to take a radio. Because they won’t notice that’s missing. She checks the hallway again, and jets. The two goons come back.

Sam tells Alexis, if a friend truly knows you, eventually they’re going to realize you have good intentions, and they’ll come back to you. Alexis says she’s not sure it matters what Gregory thinks about her; she’s worried about him regardless. She wishes he’d talk to his sons about whatever this is. And if he’d listen to her, she’d tell him, if you cut your children out of your life, it just causes you more misery. Sam says, Gregory told her what’s really going on, didn’t he? Alexis doesn’t say anything, and Sam says, maybe he’s going to come around, but Alexis says she doubts highly she’s going to see him again. Sam says she’s so sorry. Is Alexis going to be okay? Alexis says, it’s going to take more than this to keep her down.

Finn says he’s taking a shower and picking up Violet, and tells Chase, good luck at the meeting. He’s rooting for him. Chase thanks him, and Finn leaves. Gregory says he’s sorry he pushed Chase, but Brook was good for him. Chase says he knows. He thought Alexis was good for Gregory. Gregory says he just wishes things were different, and Chase says he’s going to hit the showers. He doesn’t want to be late for the CCRB. He just realized, if all goes well, he’s going to be the one seeing more of Alexis, and Gregory asks, how so? Chase says, not only is she a journalist, the PCPD’s biggest case is tracking down her Uncle Victor, who kidnapped her nephews, and Gregory says he heard. Chase says he’s sure Alexis is anxious to hear news of her family, and leaves.

Brook tells Maxie that she and Chase were friends, but didn’t get close until after he was suspended… because of her. Maxie says, Brook didn’t ask him to punch a civilian, let alone two. Brook says, with Linc and Valentin she was in a situation of her own making, and Chase stepped in to defend her. Maxie says, because he cares, and Brook says, his caring cost him a lot. Now he has the chance to be a detective again; reclaim his old life and everything he had in it before she came along. Maxie says, but what she and Chase had was real, and Brook says, until she messed it up – more than once. Maxie says, Brook tried to make it up to him. She wrote that letter to the CCRB. So why is she giving up now? Brook says she shouldn’t even be thinking about getting back together with Chase. What she really owes him is helping him get his badge back. Maxie says she thinks Brook’s done all she can do there, but Brook says, maybe she could do more. Maxie says, then what is she waiting for? Go to that meeting. She’ll stay here with Willow and Amelia; work on wedding prep until Michael gets back. Brook says, there’s one more thing. What if she’s the last person Chase wants to see?

Portia, Curtis, and Laura sit in the waiting area, when Jordan comes back, and says, IT’s working on the coordinates Trina gave them. Portia asks if Jordan has any idea how long it will take to find her daughter, and Laura takes her hands and says, Trina can do this. The fact that she has evaded Victor for this long, actually gives her and Spencer a little bit of an advantage here. Curtis says, think about this. Trina snuck onto the Haunted Star without even being noticed. That’s brave. And it’s that level of courage that will carry her through. Portia says she just prays this nightmare will be over soon, and Laura holds her as she cries.

Victor tells Watkins to double the guards outside Dr. Obrecht’s room. She’s a brilliant woman and not easily intimidated. She’s bound to try and escape. He tells Spencer, time to go, and Spencer says, if Victor wanted him dead, Victor would have killed him already. Victor says, of course (🍷) he doesn’t want Spencer dead. It would pain him no end to harm family. Call him sentimental, but he can’t allow Spencer’s transgressions to go unpunished. So from now on, consider himself Victor’s prisoner. Spencer asks what he’s been up to this point, and Victor says, he’ll no longer be afforded the privileges of family, including food. Spencer says, Victor is going to starve him? and Victor says, believe him. This won’t hurt Spencer nearly as much as Spencer has hurt him. He tells Watkins to take Spencer to his cabin, and Watkins takes an obvious bite of a strawberry before taking Spencer by the arm and leading him out. Spencer turns as Trina peeks out, watching Victor take a sip of those inadequate martinis he makes. He should have brought a bartender.

One of the goons sees the radio is missing, and tells his fellow goon, get in here. Goon #2 takes a look, and asks if one of the walkies is missing.

Alexis flashes back to Gregory telling her that he’s sick, and then goes back to work. There’s a knock at her door, and she says, come in. Gregory walks in, and they soap stare at each other.

Chase straightens his jacket and tie as he waits for the meeting to start. Brook runs in, and says, right on time. He smiles.

On Monday, Gregory says he’s hoping Alexis is feeling the same way; Josslyn tells Michael that Sonny knows about her and Dex; and Sonny says, if he tells Nina, she can’t unknow it.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the MetroCourt Garden, Ava asks if Scotty has everything, and he says, two quickie divorces, hot off the presses. She thanks him for being so expedient, and asks if he has the division of assets from Nikolas’s lawyer. He says he does; 50/50, right down the middle. He has to say, she turned a nice profit here, but Ava says, she told him before, this divorce is just a gesture. Nikolas wants to prove how much he trusts her by giving her half of everything. Scotty says, ain’t love grand? but she says, that’s not funny. He says he’s not trying to be funny. Once she signs these papers, she’s going to get half of what Nikolas has, and there isn’t a damn thing he can do about it. Nikolas joins them, and says, which is exactly why they’re doing this. Their marriage, which started with blackmail and mutual distrust, is a thing of the past, and the only thing that will remain is their love. He kisses Ava’s hand, and Esme watches from a distance. She flashes back to… I don’t want to talk about it, okay?

Spencer comes into Kelly’s and tells Cameron, take a break. Cameron says, no can do. They’re short-staffed since Spencer quit on zero notice. Spencer says he’s sure Cameron can spare five minute; this is important. Cameron says he could argue that work is important, not that it means anything to Spencer. Spencer says, wow. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but he’s sure Cameron’s mood is going to improve when he tells Cameron about how he’s going to help Trina. Cameron asks if he has proof Esme filmed him and Joss, and Spencer says, no, but he has the next best thing. He found out who Esme’s biological mother is.

At the pool, Gregory tells Finn that Chase will be there in a little bit, but in the meantime, does Finn have any updates on Elizabeth? Finn says, she called and they talked briefly, and Gregory asks if she said anything about Finn visiting her, but Finn says, no. Gregory says he’s sorry. He knows how difficult it is for Finn to bide his time while Elizabeth is struggling. Finn says he’d do anything for her. He has to respect her wishes and stay away. Chase arrives, and Finn says, it’s about time. Chase says, sorry; he overslept. Gregory says, Chase better get that out of his system before he goes back to work at the PCPD, but Chase says, that’s not happening as soon as Gregory thinks. Gregory asks, why not? and Chase says, his suspension has been extended.

Trina meets Josslyn by the pool, and asks if she’s been waiting long. Josslyn says, no complaints. She’s actually been enjoying the downtime. Carly comes in, and Josslyn asks, what’s wrong? She seems distracted. Carly says she’s just dealing with some stuff right now, when Olivia joins her, and says she’s so sorry. She had no idea this was going to happen.

On the phone, Lucy asks how much time they get… Really? It’s not a lot, but they’re going to make it work. They’re so excited about this opportunity, truly… Of course (🍷). She hangs up, and tells Maxie, that was their segment producer, and she got to talk to the on-camera talent. Maxie says, Lucy spoke to Haven herself? What did she say? Did she love the Deception products they sent over? Lucy says, she loves, loves, loves it; she’s a big fan. She’s going to wear our Femme Fatale lipstick on air today. Maxie says, that’s amazing, and Lucy says, but she had a few teeny tiny changes she wanted to make in the order of the products. Lucy promised her it would happen, but it’s going to be really tight. Deception is going live in two hours on TV, and Sasha’s not even here yet. Maxie says, it’s fine; she’ll call Sasha.

At the Bistro, Sasha’s phone rings, and Maxie asks where she is. Sasha says she just stopped to get some coffee, and Maxie says, now is not the time for coffee. It’s almost show time. They have some product to move – STAT. Sasha says she’s on her way, and Felty says, she’s not leaving early, is she? Sasha says, yes, she’s leaving. What they agreed on was a mistake. He says, really? Because he thinks he has exactly what she needs. He takes a little bag of pills out of his pocket.

Sonny finds Brook at the park, and they hug. She says she can’t remember the last time they talked, and he says, when she asked to meet him, he knew she wanted something. She says, how dare he? She wanted to know how he’s doing. He says, as she can see, he’s doing good. Now tell him what she wants. She says, fine; she’ll get to the point. She wants him to take care of a sleazeball named Linc Brown.

Cameron asks how Esme’s biological mother can help them with Trina, and Spencer says, Esme has always wanted to know where she came from, and why her parents gave her up for adoption. Cameron says, which has nothing to do with Trina or revenge porn, but Spencer says, it will. Once he tells Esme that he found her biological mother, he’s not going to give her any information until she admits she made the sex tape. Cameron says, but she’s not going to do that; it will land her in jail. Spencer says, his plan is for Esme to record her confession. He’s going to give her a chance to skip town before he turns the recording over to the police. It’s known she was at the cabin before the sex tape was made, and she was on campus when it was uploaded. Her confession is going to cause reasonable doubt in Trina’s case. Cameron says, that might work, and Spencer says, it will work, but Cameron says, wait. Esme’s been looking for her biological mother for years, and boom, just like that, Spencer finds her? That’s pretty convenient. Spencer says, he didn’t find her; his Uncle Victor did.

Esme ducks away, and Scotty says, Ava and Nikolas have the weirdest marriage and divorce he’s ever heard of. Ava doubts that, and Scotty says, well, okay. Maybe it’s not the weirdest, but it’s up there in the top ten. Ava asks, where’s Martin? and Nikolas says, he’s running late, but they don’t have to wait. Scotty can walk them through the key points. Ava says, Nikolas knows his lawyer has to be here to look over the divorce before he signs it, but Nikolas says, don’t worry. Shall we begin? Scotty hands them the papers, and says, this is just your standard no-fault divorce, when Esme appears, and says, divorce? But she thought Nikolas wasn’t going to tell Ava.

Carly suggests she and Olivia talk about this somewhere else, like the gardens, and Josslyn asks if everything is okay. Carly says, it’s great; they’ll talk about it later. She and Olivia leave, and Trina says she doesn’t know; that sounded more like bad news. Josslyn says, it’s just business. As long as everybody in the family is okay, they can handle whatever the new issue is. Trina says she knows what Josslyn means. Her family has really stepped up with her. Believe it or not, her mom wasn’t even upset when Trina told her about them going to the biker bar. She said she supported Trina for taking steps to help herself. Josslyn says, that’s awesome. She just wishes that stupid bar fight hadn’t broken out, so they could talk to that bartender some more. Trina says, Curtis is looking into it. He said the bartender hasn’t been there since that night. Josslyn says, Curtis? and Trina says, he took over the investigation. Josslyn says she’s glad to hear it. She hates to say it, but they’ve run into another dead end. Trina says, maybe, but like she told Josslyn, Curtis is on it. Even if the bartender doesn’t pan out, something will. She swears she’s not going to let Esme get away with this.

Sonny tells Brook, he’s surprised Linc slithered his way back into town. What’s he done now? She says she thought she put Linc in her rearview mirror when Valentin bought out her contract, but unfortunately, Linc still owns the rights to her songs from when he was her producer. Okay, I guess that answers that question, sort of. She says, he’s selling her songs to push dog food and paper towels, using her beautiful love songs as jingles… But that’s not the reason she asked to talk to him. She’s here because of Chase.

Finn says, Chase’s suspension was extended; he has questions. Gregory asks if this is why Chase was upset the other day when Brook called him, and Chase says, yeah. He’s suspended until the Civilian Review Board investigation is completed. Gregory says, there’s a civilian complaint against Chase? and Chase says, Linc Brown filed one yesterday. Gregory asks, who’s that? and Chase says, Brook’s sleazy former producer. He used to harass her all the time when she was under contract, and his behavior hasn’t gotten much better. They got into it at The Savoy the other night. Finn asks what Chase did, and Chase says, he punched Linc in the face. Gregory says, he punched someone else, even though he got suspended for it the first time? and Finn says he’s sure the guy provoked Chase. Chase says, he did, but Gregory says, still, was it worth potentially getting kicked off the force?

Felty asks if Sasha brought the credentials that make him the official Deception photographer for today’s appearance on the Home & Heart Channel. She says she did, but she changed her mind, and he asks, why? All he’s looking for is access, and the publicity will be great for Deception too; it’s a win-win in his book. It’s not like they’re breaking any laws. (Um…) He holds out the bag, and says, everyone needs a pick-me-up now and again. Why is she so uptight about it? She says she doesn’t recognize those pills; what are they? He says, they’re prescription. They’re perfectly safe. They got him through Fashion Week last year. It’s great stuff. Trust him. If he can be frank, she looks a little run down, like she could use a boost. She says, all he wants are backstage photos, right? and he says, that’s it, and she wants these. So – he slides them over to her on the table – do they have a deal?

Esme says, Nikolas and Ava are getting a divorce? This is awful. Ava asks what Nikolas didn’t tell her, and Esme says, it’s just that she just thought… and Nikolas says, Esme. He and Ava are getting a divorce, but they’re still a couple. Esme’s head explodes. Not really, but that would be funny. He says, they’re still together. Their love for each other hasn’t changed. Ava asks what Esme thinks Nikolas wasn’t going to tell her, and Esme says she knew he was contemplating getting a divorce, but she also knew he wanted to fight for their marriage, and agreed to a separation. That’s all. Ava asks Nikolas, is that correct? and Nikolas says, both Esme and Spencer noticed the toll their rift has taken on him. Esme says, he’s been so upset, and Ava says she knows Spencer would be delighted if they split up for real. Is Esme saying she doesn’t feel the same? Esme says, deep down, Spence wants his dad to be happy, and you make him happy. Nikolas thanks her for her concern, and says, but she did interrupt something. Esme says she’s sorry, she’ll go, but first, can she have a moment with Mr. Cassadine?

Olivia tells Carly, she had no idea Ned was thinking of siding with Valentin. If she had, she’d have told Carly immediately. Carly says, there’s nothing Olivia could have done, but Olivia says she still feels terrible. She knows the news of the Aurora/ELQ merger being dead tanked Aurora’s stocks. How is that going to impact Carly with the hedge fund? Carly says, it already has. Not in a good way, but she’ll figure something out. Olivia says, my God. Could Carly lose her half of the MetroCourt?

Chase tells Gregory, Linc mouthed off to Brook in a really crude and cruel way, and he didn’t take the time to think about the consequences. Yeah, he decked Linc, but a cop shouldn’t go off the handle like that. Finn says, Chase is a good cop, and that should count for something, and Gregory says, they know how much Chase loves his work. Chase says, he’s right, but as Jordan said to him, it’s part of law enforcement’s job to keep his cool in tense situations, and twice now, first with Valentin, then with Linc, he hasn’t been able to do that. He can’t believe he’s back here again. Gregory says, back here? and Chase says he almost lost his career because of Janelle. It took him years to rebuild it. Finn says, that was a completely different situation, and Gregory says, when Chase was young, he didn’t know any better. Chase says, different circumstances, yes, but his reaction proves he follows his heart, and Gregory asks if that’s what Chase was doing when he defended Brook, following his heart?

Cameron says, Spencer got his Uncle Victor involved? That guy’s bad news. Spencer asks if he’s serious. Cameron is the one who’s constantly complaining his plan is taking too long, and says he doesn’t like lying to Joss. Cameron says he doesn’t like lying to Joss, and Spencer says, neither does he, so he went to someone who could get them results. His Uncle Victor is the former director of the WSB. He has the right connections to access privileged information. Cameron says, that makes sense. So what did he find out? Spencer says, Esme told him that she was left in a church when she was a baby. She later contacted that church, but the priest insisted he had no knowledge of the woman who left the baby. Cameron says, great, so dead end, and Spencer says, that’s what Esme thought. But then, Uncle Victor’s people tracked down the nun who said she remembered Esme being abandoned. They convinced her to share the name of the mom who abandoned her child. Cameron asks how they convinced her, but Spencer says he doesn’t know. Uncle Victor didn’t give him any of the details, but his people tracked down Esme’s biological mom. She lives in Portugal now. Cameron says, so that’s it? Esme’s not going to risk prison for a name and an address based on information she doesn’t even know is legit. Spencer says, of course (🍷) not. That’s why Uncle Victor got DNA.

Maxie tells Lucy, Sasha was only stopping for a coffee; she should be here by now. Sasha dashes in, and says, sorry; she lost track of time. Lucy says, that’s okay. Here you are; that’s all that matters. They really need to get started, because there’s a lot to go over before they head over to the TV studio. Sasha says she thought they settled everything last night. She’s been going over her notes; she knows them backwards and forwards. She sees them exchange a look, and says, what? Maxie says, the Home & Heart people called, and the host had some ideas about their line-up. It’s good news really. She’s very excited about their products. She just wants to start with the lipstick instead of the eyeshadow, so she and Lucy reworked the presentation. Lucy says she’ll get the script, and it will give Sasha time to memorize all of it. Lucy runs out, Maxie following and saying, make sure it’s version 3 not version 2. Sasha takes the pills out of her bag, but hears Lucy saying, got it right here, and puts them back. Lucy and Maxie return, Lucy holding a stack of cards. She hands them to Sasha, and Maxie tells her, the changes start on card one.

Carly understands Olivia’s concern about getting a partner she disagrees with, but Olivia says, she doesn’t care about that… Of course (🍷) she cares a little bit, but that’s not the main thing. This hotel is their scene together. Carly has put so much of herself into this place. The renovations, the pool, the garden, that’s Carly, that’s all her energy, and them together. Olivia doesn’t want to lose the spirit. Carly says she doesn’t want to lose the investment. When she invested in Aurora, it never occurred to her that the merger with ELQ wasn’t going to happen. She loves running this place with Olivia. She can’t imagine not coming here every day. Olivia says, that settles it. She’s buying Carly’s half of the hotel.

Ava asks what Esme has to say to her husband that Esme can’t say in front of her? and Esme says she was just planning a surprise for Spence this afternoon. She didn’t think Ava would be interested. Nikolas says he’ll be right back, and leaves with Esme. Ava asks if any of Scotty’s police contacts have given him anything that could help Trina’s case; some piece of evidence that they haven’t mentioned yet? He says, no. That Esme, she’s covered her tracks very well.

Outside, Nikolas says, okay, Esme has his attention. What is this surprise she’s planning for Spencer? Esme says she was planning on taking him on a day trip to the mountains. Would it be okay if they borrowed Nikolas’s convertible to take in the scenery? He says, of course (🍷), but she could have asked him that in front of Ava. She says, the truth is, she pulled him away because she needs his help.

Trina says she totally forgot to tell Josslyn who she saw here last night, and Josslyn says, who? Someone from PCU? Trina says, Rory, and Josslyn says, Officer Invisible was here at the pool? Trina says, with Esme, and Josslyn says, what? Has she found a new victim to prey on? Trina says, no. Rory let her know that Esme sat beside him. Trina didn’t like it at first, but Rory totally put Esme on notice. Esme knows that he’s on to her.

Spencer says, his Uncle Victor’s people got a DNA sample from the woman they believe is Esme’s biological mother, and he got a sample of Esme’s DNA, and he had GH run a paternity test. Cameron asks if Spencer just ordered a DNA test like he orders a hamburger, and Spencer tells him, what can he say? Money talks. Anyway, this woman in Portugal is Esme’s real mom. Cameron says, that’s huge, and Spencer says, this information is going to be way more valuable to Esme than just sticking it to Trina. Cameron says, Spencer found a way to save Trina, and Spencer asks if he really thinks so. Cameron says he was skeptical at first, but Spencer convinced him, and Spencer says, good. He hopes Esme falls for it as easily as Cameron did. Cameron asks what he means, and Spencer says, it’s all a lie. He made the whole story up.

Chase tells Gregory that he’s not following his heart to Brook; she’s his friend. Gregory says, he just means Chase went above and beyond for Brook. He pretended Bailey was his daughter, he punched Valentin and now this Linc to defend her. Chase says, this is nothing like Janelle. He spontaneously stepped up to say he was Bailey’s father. Brook never even asked, and as for punching those two losers… He knows he shouldn’t have done it, but in the moment, he couldn’t stand them insulting Brook. But those were his reactions. Brook in no way asked or wanted him to be involved. Gregory says, just to be clear, he’s not criticizing Brook. He knows Chase cares about her, and Brook cares about him. He was impressed when she reached out to him the other day to let him know Chase needed cheering up. Chase says, it’s funny. Brook tries to downplay her good qualities. She likes to hide behind her rich girl persona, and tough New York City attitude. He actually almost hit Linc a few weeks ago, and she beat him to it. Just another sign that he can’t control his temper. Finn says he’s used a lot of words over the years to describe Chase, but bad temper never came up. Gregory agrees. He’s always described Chase as passionate. He always has been. Even as a kid, Chase stood up for the little guy. It’s in his nature. Chase says, that was always his goal, but he has to figure out another way to do it.

Brook tells Sonny, Linc was totally disrespecting her. He was treating her like garbage, then he grabbed her arm. That’s when Chase stepped in and punched him, which in her opinion Linc completely deserved. Only thing is, Chase is already on suspension with the PCPD for punching Valentin a few months ago, who was also saying horrible things about her. So now, Chase is on suspension again, or still, or whatever. The bottom line is, Chase might lose his job. Sonny says, because of Linc, but she says, no, because of her. She can’t let that happen. Chase is a great detective, and really loves what he does. Any chance Sonny could have a, quote unquote, talk with Linc; get him to recant his complaint against Chase? Sonny says, as much as he’d love to, he’s sorry; he can’t do that. She asks, why not? Because Chase is a cop? That’s no reason not to help. Sonny’s son Dante is a cop. He says, she misunderstands him. If he gets involved, word’s going to get out; what did Chase do to deserve a favor from him? They’re going to see him as a dirty cop. She says she didn’t think about that, and he says, the best thing Chase can do is just go through the process, and hope it comes out in his favor.

Maxie tells Sasha to remember, they want their customer to feel empowered, and Lucy adds, strong, independent, and like she can do anything. Maxie says, or be anyone, but Lucy says, no, not just anyone. She wants to be Sasha. Sasha asks what that means, and Lucy says, it means Sasha is the ideal. She’s the Face of Deception. Maxie says, she’s strong, and Lucy says, but relatable. Maxie says, fearless, and Lucy says, but never ever harsh. Maxie says, Sasha just needs to relax and be her own natural and charming self. Let them see who Sasha really is. Lucy says, not totally though. She has to maintain an air of mystery. Sasha jumps up and says, stop it! They stare at her in disbelief, and Sasha says she’s sorry for snapping like that. It’s just that she put so much time into memorizing the original order, she just needs a minute to get the last minute changes. Lucy says, it’s really okay. They understand this is a lot. Maxie says, if they let their enthusiasm get away from them, they’re really sorry. Is Sasha sure she’s okay? Sasha says, she’s just a little nervous, that’s all, and Maxie says, who wouldn’t be? Lucy says, her butterflies have their own teeny tiny little butterflies, but it’s going to be okay. Sasha is going to be absolutely magnificent. Sasha thanks them for all their faith in her, and Maxie says, she’s got this. Lucy says, absolutely, and never forget, they are always by her side. Sasha says she knows they’ll be with her in spirit, but physically they’ll be standing behind the cameras. She’ll be the one in front of them.

Cameron says, so everything Spencer told him about Esme’s biological mom is a lie? and Spencer says he has no idea who Esme’s real mom is. Cameron asks, what the hell is Spencer doing? and Spencer says he had to test his story before he used it on Esme. He needed to know if it sounds believable. Cameron says, he’s an ass, and Spencer says he’s sorry, but he only gets one shot at this. As soon as he demands Esme confess to this, she’s going to know he believes Trina and not her, and it’s game over for him. Cameron says he sees Spencer’s point. For what it’s worth (🍷), Spencer’s story is good. Spencer asks, what part convinced him? and Cameron says, the DNA test. Can Spencer’s uncle fake one for him? Spencer says, no, not exactly. That’s where Cameron comes in.

Nikolas asks what kind of help Esme needs from him, and she says, it’s her internship at Spring Ridge. Her work there has convinced her that she definitely wants to major in psychology, and figuring out why people do what they do. It’s fascinating stuff. He says, she still hasn’t explained why she needs his help, and she says, Doc was being completely overprotective, and managed to convince the administration that they should terminate her internship. She knows he thinks he’s acting in her best interest, but he’s not. She’s hoping Nikolas can get her internship reinstated. Nikolas says he’s not sure how he would go about that, and she says she knows he has connections at Spring Ridge. After all, he’s the one who got Spencer and Alexis released early, right? She hates to bother an important man such as himself with something so small, but can he do this… for her?

Olivia says, she’ll buy Carly’s half, so she’ll own the entire hotel. Carly can pay her back slowly, like an old-fashioned instalment plan. Carly says, that’s a very generous offer, but does Olivia have the liquidity to buy her half? Olivia says she’d have to talk it over with Ned… and Carly says, no.

Spencer asks if Cameron doesn’t think it’s pretty genius, but Cameron says, no. Not genius. And not something he wants any part of. Spencer says, it’s not a big deal. All Cameron has to do is get DNA samples from Joss and her mom for him to have tested. Cameron says, is that all? and Spencer says, it will give them a genuine mother/daughter test result, and Esme can go to the lab and confirm it herself. Cameron asks what Spencer expects him to do; hug Carly, and snag a couple hairs? That’s not suspicious at all. Spencer says, don’t be so dramatic. He can snag it from a glass she drank from. Where is Josslyn anyway? Cameron says he’s supposed to meet Joss and Trina at the MetroCourt pool after his shift is over, and Spencer says, that’s so good. Carly is almost always working at the MetroCourt. Cameron can get both of the samples today. Just let him know when it’s done. Cameron says, oh no. If he’s doing this, then Spencer is doing it with him.

Ava says she can’t believe Scotty hasn’t found anything to tie Esme to that sex tape. That little fiend torched her car, and threw in Kiki’s GH badge just for kicks; she’s got a devious mind. Scotty says, she’s devious, but she covered her tracks well. Now let’s get back to what’s at hand here. Sign the papers. They’re going to need a witness… She says she’s going to wait for Nikolas to get back, and Scotty says, she told him Nikolas wanted this, as does she. Was he wrong? She asks if it really matters. He’s banking billable hours no matter what. He says he’s always been there for her, hasn’t he? He cares about her, and she knows that. How could she say that to him? She says she’s sorry; she does know that. She’s on edge because she’s very concerned about Trina, and she’s just being silly. She looks through the papers, and Scotty says, silly how? She says she can’t help thinking she and Nikolas are tempting fate. That this divorce isn’t going to be the fresh start he wants it to be; that it’s going to be the end.

Nikolas says he’s not even sure how he can help Esme. As she knows, Doc is married to his mother. This’ll get back to her, and it could be bad. She says, he’s right. She guesses this is what she deserves anyway. Losing her internship, she means. This is her punishment for sleeping with her boyfriend’s dad. He says, no, that’s not how the world works. She’s just feeling guilty like he is, because they should never have been together. But he’ll prove it to her by helping her get her internship back. She throws her arms around him, and says, thank you so much.

Olivia says she really thinks she can convince Ned that buying Carly’s half of the hotel would be a great investment, and Carly says, maybe Ned would go for it, but she won’t. Ned double-crossed Michael and Drew, and hung them out to dry. They’re scrambling to save Aurora. They’re not going to take Ned’s money, even if he’s in partnership with Olivia. Olivia asks if Carly believes Drew and Michael would think less of her, but Carly says, she would think less of herself. Olivia asks, what’s next? What is Carly going to do?

Nikolas comes back to the table, and Ava asks, where’s Esme? He says, she took off, and Ava says she didn’t think Esme would be hitting Nikolas up for money. Spencer’s allowance is more than enough for the both of them. He says, Esme never brought up the subject of money.

Josslyn and Trina sit with their feet in the pool, and I’m jealous of the random guy who swims past. Trina says, Esme asked Rory if he knew someone who could help her get her internship back at Spring Ridge, and Josslyn says, hello. What does it tell you that Esme’s too crazy to get an internship? Trina says, that’s her point. Rory claimed he knew someone, and offered to put the name and phone number in Esme’s phone, but she woudn’t hand it over. Josslyn says, there must be so much incriminating data on it, and Trina says, exactly. There is no way Esme is going to let a cop hold it, even for a minute. Rory just out maneuvered her. Josslyn says, nice work, and Trina says, right? Especially when Trina got here, and saw them together. For a second, Trina thought Esme was winning him over. Josslyn says, there is not a chance. Officer Invisible is way too into Trina. Trina says, maybe, and Josslyn says, and Trina is into Rory, right? Trina says, maybe.

Spencer says, if he goes with Cameron, that’s only going to make it worse. Cameron says, how convenient, and Spencer says he means it. He can’t go near Joss or Trina; they hate him, especially Trina. Cameron says he guesses Spencer is right about that. Maybe they could use that to their advantage. Spencer asks, how? and Cameron says, this time, Spencer is going to have to trust him. He has an idea.

Finn says he’ll support Chase in any career path he chooses, but he still thinks the PCPD is shooting themselves in the foot to give up on a detective as good as Chase is. Chase says he doesn’t know if they’ll have a choice in the matter, and Gregory asks how long the investigation takes. Chase says he doesn’t know, but he knows he’s suspended without pay, and he’s going to have to find another job… at least a temporary one. He can’t imagine anything that would satisfy him as much as detective work, and Gregory says he thinks Chase needs to fight for the job he has, the job he loves. Finn says, in the meantime, Chase might want to stay away from this Linc Brown.

Sonny tells Brook that he has to cut this short. He has to go to the MetroCourt to meet Nina. She asks if he and Nina are an official thing now, and he says, just kind of dating. Brook says, as long as Nina makes him happy, and he says, it’s nice of her to say that, since not a lot of people feel that way. She says she’s sure. There’s really nothing he can do for Chase? He tells her, like he said, Chase is a smart guy. He’ll get another job. A lot of former cops are doing security. She says, like Paul Blart a mall cop? and he says, not like a mall cop. Like a security consultant, like a bodyguard… She says, that doesn’t sound much better, but he says, listen. Chase is going to find another job. He’s sorry he can’t make Linc sing like a canary, but the Review Board… you never know. She tells him that he’s a genius, and hugs him, saying, thank you so much.

Ava asks if Nikolas is signing the papers now, and he says, that’s what they’re here for, isn’t it? She says, Martin Grey isn’t here. Nikolas shouldn’t sign any legal documents before his lawyer looking through them first. Scotty tells Ava, hold on a second. He’s offended. Does she think he pulled some sort of a fast one when he drew up these papers? Nikolas tells Ava that he wants to do this for her, to prove to her that he has no doubts they’re going to be together forever, which turns into a Rick Astley earworm for me. She says she appreciates the gesture, but there’s no need to take it this far. They don’t have to rush through this divorce. Scotty says, the two of them are working his last nerve. He has to go to court, so are they going to sign these papers or not? Ava takes Nikolas’s papers, puts them on top of her own, and hands them to Scotty. She says, not, and tells Nikolas, let’s go home.

Finn says, Chase’s only defense with the Review Board is, the punch was in the heat of the moment, he wasn’t thinking, and he’s sorry. Chase says, but he’s not sorry, and Gregory says, what? Finn tells Chase, he can’t say that, and Chase says he knows. He needs to convince the Review Board that he’s very remorseful, and for his own self-preservation, that he won’t go anywhere near Linc. Brook comes in, and Finn says he has to get to the hospital, and Gregory has… Gregory says he has to work on his book. Chase may as well stay and enjoy the pool. Finn echoes, enjoy the pool, and they leave. Chase takes his shirt off, and Brook walks up, saying, she was looking for him.

Walking into the pool area, Cameron says, before they go any further, he wants to make sure Spencer’s good with the plan. He’s going to go to the pool, and Spencer’s going to go a few minutes after to create a diversion. Okay? That’s when he’ll get the DNA samples from Joss and her mom. Spencer says, look, there’s Carly over there with Olivia, and they see Carly and Olivia talking at the pool bar. Spencer asks what they do now, and Cameron says, he’ll go to the pool first, and sit with Joss. Promise to not leave him hanging? Spencer says he’s got Cameron’s back; he promises.

Lucy says, it’s time to go, ladies. Fame, fortune, and Home & Heart await. Maxie says she’s so excited about what this means for the future of Deception, and Sasha says, it’s huge. Lucy says, on three, group hug – three! They hug for a moment, and Lucy says, break. Let’s go. They start to leave, and Sasha says she forgot something. She’ll catch up with them downstairs. Lucy and Maxie continue on, while Sasha goes back in the office, and takes a pill.

Cameron walks over to Josslyn and Trina, and Josslyn asks if he’s finally taken some time to do nothing. He says he’s here; are they going to save him a chair? Josslyn asks, what’s wrong?

Spencer looks at his phone, and says, that’s long enough. Time to go to the pool. He walks in, and runs into Esme, who asks what he’s doing here.

Olivia asks Carly, what’s next? What’s her plan? Carly says she doesn’t know, and Olivia sees Sonny walk in. She says she understands Carly not wanting to take money from the Quartermaines, but what about her ex-husband? Maybe he owes Carly a favor or 500. Carly turns around, and sees Sonny.

Next week (I assume Tuesday), Brook says, today is the day she changes Chase’s life; Nina asks Drew why she has the feeling there’s another angle; and Sonny asks, how much trouble is Spinelli in with Cody?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny picks up Nina’s necklace from in front of Nelle’s gravestone. I knew it!

In a cab, Nina tells the driver that she’s going to the airport; the international terminal. Her phone dings, but she brushes it aside.

On the phone, Sonny tells Phyllis not to worry. He’s going to find her.

Sam says, when Cody said, partners in crime, is he talking about Detective Falconari? Cody says he can’t wrap his head around the cop part. This guy’s mom sent him to summer camp to keep him out of trouble, and he got in a lot more while he was there. Dante says, that was because of Cody, and Cody says, right. He’s the one who led Dante astray; Dante’s the innocent one. Sam says, they’ve known each other that long? and Cody says, we were twelve? Thirteen? Dante says, twelve. He came home from school one day, and his mom had a bag packed. He was going to camp for the summer. Stay out of trouble and get into nature. Sam says, and Cody was the bad influence that corrupted Dante? Cody says he was a bad influence, but so was Dante back in the day.

Josslyn sees Cameron at the pool, putting out towels, and says, two shifts? Kelly’s, now here? He says, with everything going on with his mom, he figured he could use the extra work, and she asks if they can talk about what’s going on with them.

In front of her house, Trina says she can’t believe she and Rory stayed out so long, and he says he guesses that means they were having a good time. She says she guesses so, and thanks him for everything back at the pool, and for dinner, and for ice cream. She’ll pay him back for everything. He tells her not to worry about it, and thanks her for introducing him to that amazing food truck. She says, right? She only knew about it because it goes by PCU on certain days. He says, another testament to her incredible taste. Good art, good food. He can’t wait to see what else she introduces him to.

Spencer says he promises whatever Esme has to say, he’ll listen, but can he please go first? He’s had a lot of time to think about what she said to him; how he takes her for granted, and how Trina gets under his skin. But he evades every time she calls him out on it, and he realized she’s right. She deserves some answers.

Ava says, don’t tell her that he hired a divorce lawyer already, and Nikolas says, no, but he was ready to give up on their marriage. She says she was too. She drew a line in the sand, and she was ready to walk away. Thankfully, she realized it was the last thing she wanted. They can find their way back from this, can’t they?

Dante says, Cody didn’t corrupt him, but he definitely coerced Dante into going along with his more harebrained schemes. Cody says, like Dante didn’t have any suggestions, and Dante says, Cody knows it wasn’t his idea or choice to take a canoe out in the middle of the lake, and tip it over on purpose. Cody starts laughing and banging the table, and says, they pretended they were drowning, and yelled, help! help! until the prettiest CIT came over. Dante tells Sam, that’s Counselor-in-Training, and Cody says, she swam over. She – air quotes – rescued us – end air quotes – and boy she was mad. Dante says, they got banned from the beach for the rest of the summer, and Cody says, then Dante stole all the camp director’s cigarettes out of his cabin. Dante says, and why did he do that? and Cody says, because he dared Dante to. Dante says, they got busted because this guy smoked every cigarette in the pack, and started puking all over the place, and Cody says, nothing like a little adrenaline rush to let you know you’re alive. Sam says, it’s like jumping out of a plane and crash-landing on an unsuspecting woman, and Cody says, talk about mad… and pretty. She actually reminds him of that CIT. Still, if she hadn’t been there, it would have been a perfect landing. Dante says, instead of a potential negligence lawsuit, and Cody says, look at Dante, former renegade, embracing the straight and narrow path to a humdrum life. Dante says he doesn’t know if staring down the barrel of a loaded gun is as dangerous as jumping out of a plane, and Cody says he’s just messing with Dante. He’s going to get another round for that dinner Dante is going to buy him. He gets up, and puts his hand on his back. Sam asks if he’s okay, and Cody says, that tumble just fired up some old injuries. He’s good. A little pain just lets you know you’re alive. He goes to the bar, and Sam wonders why Dante never mentioned him before. Dante says he doesn’t know. They saw each other at summer camp, had a helluva time, but they lost touch after Dante stopped going. Sam says, that’s too bad. He seems like a good guy. Dante says, he is a good guy. Good at getting in trouble.

Josslyn says she feels like she and Cameron should be able to tell each other everything by now. Unless this is something bigger. Does he feel like they need time or something? He says, no. He doesn’t want that. Does she? She says she doesn’t know what else to do. Clearly, something is going on. Cameron flashes back to telling Spencer that he’s not going to lose Josslyn because Spencer can’t keep his head in the game. Make it happen, or he will. Cameron says, Josslyn is right. There’s something he has to tell her. She says, okay, when Adam walks in. Cameron says, isn’t that…? and she says, the creep who tried to hit on her when she thought they were just study buddies? Adam says he’s sorry to interrupt, but he really needs to talk to her.

Taggert tells Portia that he was hoping Trina would get home before he left, and she says, Trina is actually supposed to be back by now, but she has been working a lot. Dealing with everything hanging over her head, Portia doesn’t blame her. She wishes there was something she could do to make things better, and Taggert says, she will. He asks her to give Trina a big hug from her dad, and she says she sure will. Trina’s still a daddy’s girl; don’t worry. Taggert opens the door to find Rory and Trina standing there, and asks, sweetheart, who’s your friend?

Nikolas downs a drink, and Ava says, they had a fight; so do most couples. She just had to remember everything they’ve shared. How they’ve survived, despite everyone’s predictions to the contrary. Because they love each other. Because they understand each other. It’s going to take a helluva lot more than an argument to sever that bond. He flashes back to… I don’t want to talk about it, and says, to be fair, it was more than one argument. There are things between them that aren’t easy to resolve. She says, nothing between them has been easy, and it hasn’t stopped them yet, but he says, she walked away from him; from them. He thought it was over. She says she thought so too, but it’s because they’re both stubborn, passionate people. When they’re at odds, things can get really ugly, but when they’re together, they’re unbeatable. That’s the problem. They stopped working as a team. They started to let their own agendas drive them, and forgot to protect this life they’ve created together. That life is beautiful. It’s remarkable, and utterly their own. And she’s not going to let Spencer and Esme tear it down.

Spencer says he’s so sorry for how bad things have gotten between him and Esme. He’s so sorry for the way he treated her. He takes her hand, and asks if she’ll please forgive him.

On the phone, Sonny asks if Brick can track down Nina for him. She’s not returning his calls, his texting, or nothing… He’s just afraid she’s not in a great state of mind, and she might do something she’s going to regret.

Nina thanks the driver for making the stop; she left her passport in the office. She realizes her necklace is gone, and asks him to wait. They have to make another stop before he drives her to the airport.

Cody comes back with beers, and says, to Port Charles finest. That means Dante. Dante says, to unexpected reunions, and they clink bottles. Sam says, no wedding ring; he’s not married? He says, free as a bird, and she says, no kids? He says, no, and she asks if there’s anyone special in his life. He says, she asks a lot of questions, and Dante says, Sam is a private investigator; occupational hazard. Sam says, it’s like jumping out of a plane and landing on a roof. It’s sort of like skydiving. Is that what Cody does for a living, or is it his side hustle? Cody says, actually, for a long time, he was a stunt horseback rider, and Dante says, cool. Cody was always good with horses. Cody says he grew up around them, and when he moved out west, he worked on ranches. That’s where he learned stunt riding, but after too many tumbles, he had to hang up his saddle. Now he makes a living doing short term gigs. Sam asks if dropping out of the sky isn’t hard on his back, and he says, yeah. He’ll probably have to quit that too. So how long have Sam and Dante been together? Dante asks if Sam wants to take that one, and she says, they’re coming up on a year. Cody asks how they met, and Dante says, Sam has been a family friend for years. Sam says, her ex-husband was best friends with Dante’s father. Cody says, Dante found his father. He remembers Dante wanted to know who he was. Dante says he got to know his father a little over 10 years ago, and Cody says, that’s significant; tell him about him. Dante says, he’s a businessman in Port Charles, and Cody asks, what’s his business? Dante says, Corinthos Coffee, and Cody says, his dad is Sonny Corinthos?

Sonny tells Brick, talk to him… a plane ticket, where?… Dammit. Milan?… How soon?… All right. He’s on it. He starts to leave, but meets Nina, who’s coming into the cemetery.

Cameron says, if he was Adam, he’d get the hell out of here, but Josslyn says, it’s fine. Let’s hear what he has to say. Adam asks if they can talk in private, and Cameron says, he’s joking, but Josslyn says, it’s fine. He’s got a minute. Cameron steps away, and Josslyn says, one wrong word, and he’s in the pool, and she’s pretty good at it. He says he’s been afraid to talk to her at school, but he saw her come in there, and figured it’s now or never. She says, for what? and he says, an apology.

Nikolas tells Ava, as convenient as it would be to blame Spencer and Esme, they’ve struggled with trust and honesty from the beginning, and he takes his responsibility in that. Ava says she knows they have legitimate issues to work through, but despite that, there’s love here. There’s a kinship even, and there’s certainly no denying their attraction. Surely those things can see them through. What does he say? Is still in this with her? He says, don’t call him Shirley.

Esme says she appreciates Spencer’s acknowledgement that he’s treated her badly, but it’s not that simple. She removes her hand from his, and gets up. He follows and says, he knows he messed everything up. He’s trying to work it out. He wants to be the man she deserves, but in order to do that, he may need a second, third, or fourth chance, and he doesn’t even know which one he’s on now. Just believe he’s trying to do better by her. She says she needs more than trying, and from where she’s standing, it doesn’t look like he’s trying very hard, except to justify his behavior. She’s been willing to stand by him, no matter what, but she hasn’t gotten anything close to that from him. She deserves better. His father reminded her of that.

Nikolas says he’s with Ava, always and forever. She moves to kiss him, but he backs up a little. She says, forever lasted all of four seconds, and he says she just surprised him. She says, and his instinct was to recoil; that’s not very reassuring. He says he’s as in love with her as ever. He wanted to grab her in his arms so many times, and he had to restrain himself. They came so close to the edge of giving up. It might take time for him to feel normal. She says, there is still one giant thing between them. If they really want to move forward, they have to settle it once and for all.

Spencer says, Esme talked to his father about him? and Esme flashes back to – oh! My eyes! She says, among other things. Nikolas saw her suitcase, and she accidentally broke the news about Ava’s offer for them to move out of Windymere in exchange for an allowance from his trust fund. One thing led to another, and she told him they fought, and she was on the verge of walking out on him. Spencer asks what Nikolas said to make her stay, and she says, Nikolas cares about Spencer and doesn’t want to see him hurt, so he talked her down. He gave her a new perspective on relationships. It was a lot to take in, but it made her realize she has to be honest in what she needs from Spencer. He says he knows their relationship has been rocky. He’s been in a bad head space ever since he came back from Spring Ridge, but he’s ready to do whatever it takes to make this work between them. She asks if he really means that.

Portia asks if she can get Rory anything to drink, but he says he’s fine. Trina asks if Taggert wasn’t supposed to be leaving, and Portia thinks she remembers Rory. Wasn’t he at the courthouse at Trina’s arraignment? He says, yes. It was the first day he officially met Trina. Trina says, Rory got her a soda when she was in the interrogation room. Portia says, well, that’s an interesting story, and the three of them force a laugh. Taggert says, mm-hm, and Rory says he heard how Taggert and Commissioner Ashford took down Cyrus Renault. Great work. Taggert says, ya think? He broke the law. He had to convince his ex-wife and daughter that he was dead for nearly six months. Trina says, which she had a problem with at first, but then she realized he was just doing what he had to do. Rory says, it sounds like Taggert did what he needed to do to protect his family and community. He admires that. Taggert asks if Rory likes breaking the rules. Is that the real reason he’s hanging out with Taggert’s daughter?

Josslyn says, Adam wants to apologize? and he says he does. He’s sorry for being a total jerk. He had no right to say the things he said. She says, no, he didn’t; so why did he? He tells her, he’s ashamed to say it now, but all he saw was a hot girl in a video. He didn’t think about how it felt to have her privacy violated. Then he read her article in The Invader. Reading about what she went through, it was seriously messed up, and made him check himself. If someone did that to his sister, he would be furious. He’s really sorry, and sorry he made it worse for her. She thanks him, and says she accepts his apology. He asks if they should hug it out or something, and she says, remember the pool? Don’t push it.

Dante says he’s guessing Cody knows the name Sonny Corinthos, and Cody says, he knows Sonny roasts a mean bean. Can Dante hook him up with some free coffee? Dante says, some things never change; always looking for an angle. Cody says, it’s not what you know, and Dante says, it’s who you know. Cody asks what Dante is up to tonight. Does he want to raise a ruckus to honor the old times? Dante says he has an early morning, and Cody says, Dante has to keep those bad guys off the street. Dante says, and get his kid to school. Cody says, look at Dante. He’s a dad with a great job, and a cool girlfriend. He didn’t think Dante had it in him. Cody is happy for him. It looks like he grew up to have a full life. Dante thanks him, and says, it looks like Cody got the life he wanted too. Cody says, more or less. He’s glad they had this chance to catch up, even if it’s just one night. Sam says, they’re having dinner at her place tomorrow night. Why doesn’t Cody come by?

Sonny says he was worried about Nina. He called and texted, but she didn’t return his calls. She says she put her phone on silent; she wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone. He says he heard her petition to see Wiley was rejected. He’s sorry. She asks if he’s upset about how she let Scotty go after Michael, and he says he doesn’t like to see Michael in pain, but can’t he feel for her too? She says she won’t be hurting Michael or anyone anymore. She’s headed to the airport as soon as she finds… He says, this? holding up her necklace. He won’t give it to her, and she says, she’s running late; there’s a car waiting for her. He says, too bad. He’s not letting her go.

Ava says, her offer to Spencer wasn’t only to get him and Esme to move out; it was for her and Nikolas. Nikolas says, she wanted to give them space to work on their marriage, but it hurts that his son chose money over their relationship. Ava says she means no disrespect, but in Spencer’s eyes, Nikolas did the same thing. As a gesture of good faith and to show him she’s committed to their marriage, she won’t make Spencer choose. He says, if she reneges on their deal, Spencer will be furious, but she says, no. She’ll still give him the money, on the condition he remain here. Of course (🍷) she’ll still have to put up with Esme. He says, not necessarily. Esme and Spencer might be breaking up. Esme seems to think so. Ava says, maybe that’s why Spencer was looking for her. Maybe she’s gone already. This calls for a toast. Things are looking up already.

Spencer tells Esme, he means it with all his heart. He wants them to make it. Can she please accept his apology? She takes his hands and says she loves him. She wants to make this relationship work, so yes, she forgives him. She hopes this can be a new beginning for them. He says he wants that too. He’s ready for all this drama to be a thing of the past. She says, the best part is, she knows he means that.

Portia tells Taggert, this isn’t an interrogation, but Rory says, it’s a fair question. Actually, he’s a by-the-book guy. That’s why he looked it up, and there’s no rule he’s not allowed to be friends with Trina while she’s awaiting trial. Taggert says, he’s a rookie, right? There’s something Rory needs to understand about law enforcement; there’s written rules, and unwritten rules. Rory says, yes, sir. He takes that seriously. Just like he takes seriously their oath and motto, to protect and serve; that’s why he was drawn to the job. He’s not violating the oath or motto by hanging out with Trina. If someone has a problem with that, it’s on them, not him. Portia asks what Rory likes to do in his spare time, and he says, Trina is teaching him about art; she has a great eye. Trina says she keeps telling him, art is subjective, but she guesses she’s been around it more. Rory says, no false modesty; own it, lady. Trina says she guesses she’s pretty good at it, and Rory says he likes to keep active; play sports, swim, work out when he can. The job keeps him pretty busy, and the whole work/life balance is tough. Portia says, let her know when he’s got that figured out, and he says, right now, he’s trying to remind himself to make more time for the things he enjoys. He and Trina smile at each other.

Cody tells Sam, he appreciates the offer, but he’s got to hit the road tomorrow. She says, no way. He’s only there for the day? He says, life in the gig economy. His next job’s in the Finger Lakes area, but Port Charles seems like a nice town. Sam says, it is. Too bad he can’t stick around and get to know the place. Cody says he never gets too comfy in one place; got to pay the bills. Sam asks if he’s looking for something long term, and he says, since he quit riding, he just goes where the wind blows. He’s open to opportunities. Why does she ask? She says she might know of a job that’s a good fit, if of course (🍷) he’s interested.

Nina tells Sonny, she can’t stay here. She hates losing him, leaving him, but she can’t keep doing this. Her mistakes have cost him everything, and they’ve finally caught up with her. He says he meant what he said on the stand; he forgives her for what she did to him. She thanks him, and says, it means everything, but it doesn’t change the fact she lost Wiley, her grandson, her flesh and blood, the last link she’ll ever have to her daughter. He says, she doesn’t know that for sure, and she says, Michael and Willow won’t let her see Wiley after everything that happened in court today. He says, Michael and Willow can’t keep her from her grandson forever, but she says, they can. They won’t let that little boy see anything redeemable in her. Willow accused her of being exactly like Nelle. And Nina said terrible things. She has a habit of lashing out when she feels cornered. She missed her chance at getting what her mother stole from her. She won’t know Nelle, and now she won’t know Nelle’s son. The only thing she has left of them is that necklace. Please give to her so she can go. It hurts too much to stay here. He puts the necklace in her hand, and asks her to do him a favor. Before she leaves; let him ask her one thing. How does she think Wiley will feel when he finds out she gave up on him?

Sam tells Cody, her kids spend a lot of time at their grandmother’s. They have stables and horses. They just got a new horse, and they’re actually looking for another handler. Cody says, so old money? New? She says, does it matter? He said he worked on ranches. Does that mean he has experience in managing and grooming horses? He says, yeah. When he was a kid, his family tended to some horses that were on an estate near the camp. He helped out, and even took over for a couple years before he went out west. She says she can’t promise anything, but she and Dante can get him a foot in the door, but Dante says, he thinks it’s a good idea, but he doesn’t think it’s the right one for Cody. Never too comfy in one place, right?

Cameron gets a text from Spencer: All good. Plan on track. Josslyn comes back with Adam, and Cameron says, everything okay? She says, yeah, and Adam says, he was telling Josslyn that he read their article in The Invader, and how sorry he is everything went down the way it did. They’re really brave, and he appreciates them both. Cameron says, cool, thanks, and Adam leaves. Cameron asks if he’s legit, and Josslyn says, actually, yes. He apologized, and told her that when he read the article, he changed. They changed his perspective. It’s just more validation that they made the right decision in agreeing to do the article. He says he guesses they did. He’s glad she’s finally getting some closure. She tells him, she wouldn’t say that. She won’t get any closure on any of this until Esme gets what she deserves.

Spencer and Esme walk in, and Ava says she’s glad Spencer is here. She has some news. She’s decided to amend their agreement. Spencer says, she’s giving him full control of his trust fund? but she laughs, and says, no. She’s still giving him an allowance like they agreed, except Spencer won’t be moving out. He’ll stay, and work things out with his father. Spencer says, she wants him to stay here? and she says, yes, and it seems the timing has worked out perfectly. Nikolas told her what happened. Esme looks at Nikolas, who gives a small shake of his head, and Esme asks Ava, what was that exactly? Ava says she understands Esme and Spencer have been having some difficulties, and are looking to take a break. She’s not going to insult Esme’s intelligence by saying she’s sorry to hear that. She’s sure Esme will land on her feet; find some other family to terrorize, as long as it’s not hers. Esme says, that’s where Ava is wrong. She and Spencer worked everything out. He stays; she stays. Does that alter Ava’s terms? Ava looks at Nikolas.

Nina tells Sonny, she’s not giving up on Wiley; she’s fighting to stay in his life. Sonny says, until now. She had one setback, and she’s going to throw in the towel? She says she can’t sit on the sidelines and watch that little boy play out the rest of his life without her, knowing his family poisoned his mind against her. It just hurts too much. He says, if she runs away, Wiley is going to believe the lies. He’s going to grow up, and want to know his mother and her family. He’s going to seek Nina out, and maybe want a relationship with her when he finds out how great she is. She says she doesn’t see that happening, but he says, they don’t know the future, but he can tell her right now, she’s not going to have a relationship with Wiley if she’s not here. She says she just feels hopeless, and he says, so she’s going to run. That’s what she does; it’s her pattern. She has to break that pattern. Otherwise, Wiley is going to grow up believing all the lies people are telling him. She says, what if it’s too late? but he says, that’s her fear talking. Remember what she said to him? The only way she could make it up to Wiley is to prove how much she loves him. She believed that then, believe it now. She says she doesn’t know what she believes, and he says, stay here. She has a life here. She could have one with Wiley, but she’s never going to know if she runs away.

Cody thanks Sam for the offer, but says, it’s not the right gig for him. Dante says, ever since they were kids, Cody’s had adventure in his veins, and Cody tells Sam, he’s right. Dante’s always had his number.

Cameron says his break’s just about over, and Josslyn says, he was going to tell her something before Adam interrupted them. He says, it’s not really important; it can wait. She says, really? Because she can’t shake the feeling he’s hiding something from her. He says, no. He’s sorry. He’s probably giving off weird vibes; he’s worried about his mom. She says, right. She’s sorry, but he knows he can tell her anything, right? He says he loves her, and she says she loves him too, and they hug.

Ava says, the most important thing is that Nikolas and Spencer work out their problems. If Esme and Nikolas are back track, it seems that Esme will be sticking around. Nikolas says, that is if Spencer decides to stay; the decision is his. And Nikolas supports whatever he decides. Esme says, seems like win-win to her, and Spencer says, how can he refuse such a generous offer? but the look on his face is skeptical. Ava says, then it’s settled. As a welcome home gift, she’ll wire his first payment. She jets, and Spencer says he’ll come too. He follows Ava out, and Esme tells Nikolas, she thought they’d never leave. In the hallway, Spencer asks if Ava is really okay with Esme staying here. She says she’s committed to her marriage, just like she’s committed to Spencer and his father moving forward. If that means putting up with Esme, Ava will do her best to tolerate her. She walks away, and inside the room, Esme says, so Nikolas didn’t tell Ava? She doesn’t suspect? Nikolas says, no, and what happened between them can never happen again. They’re back together with their partners, and have another shot at making it work. He thinks it’s best if Spencer and Ava never find out, and Esme says she totally agrees. Ava and Spence never have to find out. Nikolas leaves.

Rory says, it’s nice meeting Portia and Taggert, but unfortunately, he has an early morning. Portia says, it was nice meeting him too, and Taggert says he was just leaving; he’ll walk Rory out. Rory says, see Trina soon, and leaves with Taggert. Trina laughs, and picks up her phone. Portia says, he was nice, and he was cute too. She picked up a little connection. Trina tells Portia, like she said, he’s a nice person, but she barely knows him, and Portia says, okay. Whatever Trina says. They both squeal.

Nina touches Nelle’s gravestone, and tells Sonny, okay. She’ll stay in Port Charles, for Wiley. He says, she’s making the right choice, and she says, she’ll watch that sweet little boy become a stranger to her, or worse, afraid of her because of what his family has said about her. She’s not sure how she’s going to handle that. He says, she’s not going to handle it alone. She has him, Phyllis, her family and friends. He takes her hand and says they’re here for her, and she says, that’s a good thing. He says, every step of the way, and she says, because she doesn’t know how she’s going to watch Wiley grow up without her, or how she’s going to live without him. Sonny holds her, and she cries

On Monday, Portia asks if Marshall gave Curtis a reason to trust him; Valentin tells Ned, everything has a price – what’s yours; Willow tells Carly that dealing with Nina helped her come to a big decision; and Elizabeth tells Finn that he’s hurting her more than he realizes.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Ava lets herself into Windymere, and Nikolas pops out of the living room. She asks if he’s been lurking there until she came in, and he says, would that be so wrong? She wonders if he doesn’t have anything better to do than wait for her to come home, and she sees he has candles lit and champagne waiting in the living room. He asks, what’s better than spending time alone with his wife?

At the gallery, Trina says she gets how being productive could be important to Spencer, and he says, she always does. She says, not like Esme gets him though, right? She says she’ll leave him a to-do list, so he can get home to his phony, twisted witch he calls the love of his life. He says, Esme is anything but that, and Esme is about to walk in and stops. Trina says, anything but what? A twisted witch or the love of his life?

On the phone at the hospital, Carly says she’s fine. They discharged her, but she’s going to wait around to see if Harmony is all right. For Willow’s sake. Her whole world has been turned upside down tonight.

Willow and Michael go into the chapel, and she tells him not to feel like he has to stay with her. She just wants to make sure her mom is okay. He says he texted Josslyn. She’s on her way, so he’s not going anywhere. Unless she wants to be alone. She says she wants him here with her, and they hug. She wonders what her mother was doing; walking down a road at night in the woods by herself. It doesn’t make any sense. He says, hopefully, they’ll know more soon, and she says, she and her mother were just getting close. If she doesn’t make it, Willow will never forgive herself for pushing her away.

Sasha digs in her bag, and takes out her pillbox, but it’s empty. Gladys says, there she is. Sasha left so fast, her shoes left skidmarks. Sasha says, Willow didn’t see her, did she? but Gladys says, no. The poor thing is a mess. Michael took her to the chapel; they were headed in that direction. It’s probably going to be a while before the doctors can tell her anything about her mom. Unless of course (🍷) Unless it’s not as bad as they thought. She suggests they sit, but Sasha says she has to get out of here. Brando comes in and she runs to him. He tells her, it’s okay, he’s got her, but she says, no, it’s not okay. She might have killed Willow’s mother.

Nikolas pours champagne, and says, he shouldn’t have taken for granted that she was coming home. She asks if he’s wooing her, and he says, what if he is? Dinner might have been a bust, but there’s still plenty of time for dessert. They clink glass, but she says, it’s not going to work, and hands hers back. He asks, why? and she says she’s made her position clear. As long as Esme is here… He says, she isn’t here, and Ava says, since when? He says, Laura stopped by earlier. She got Sonny to give his word nothing will happen to Esme. Now Esme can go back to the mainland, and they can devote all of their time to each other.

Esme continues to listen in, and Spencer says, things with Esme are complicated, but Trina says, they’re not. Would he like her to explain what’s going on here? He’s keeping her on the hook. She let herself believe that he can be a better person. He misses that feeling, and now he’s trying to reel her in. He says, that’s not… and she says, it’s the only explanation she can come up with. He’s giving her mixed signals. He says, he’s not, and she asks what that jealous act was before. He says, he is not jealous of that guy, and she says, so what? Who cares if he’s jealous or not? He made his choice. Deal with it. Just remember, he threw their friendship away for some psycho girlfriend. Esme comes out, and says, she’s not the psycho; Trina is.

Josslyn comes into the waiting area and hugs Carly. Carly asks what she’s doing here, and Josslyn tells her, Michael said she was in the ER. Is she okay? Carly says she’s fine, and Josslyn says, Michael told her that Willow’s mom got in a car accident. Was she involved? Carly says she wasn’t there when Harmony got hit by the car, and Josslyn says, thank God. She was freaking out the whole way here. She doesn’t know what she’d do if anything happened to Carly. Carly says, it didn’t, and Josslyn asks, then what was she doing in the ER?

Willow tells Michael, you’d think at a time like this, she’d be able to focus on the good times, but with her and her mother, there are no good times not touched by the bad. It’s impossible to separate the two. He puts his arm around her, and says, she’s strong enough to forgive Harmony, and see that she genuinely wanted to make up for a lifetime of… He doesn’t have to tell her. She says, she’s accepted her mom allowed a lot of horrible things to happen to her because Shiloh manipulated her, and even though it took her a long time to forgive Harmony, Harmony never gave up on her. For the first time in a very long time, she started to feel her mother’s love. She’s not ready to be without it again. He holds her hands, and she cries.

Brando asks if Sasha wants to tell him what happened, and she says, what happened is Willow’s mom is fighting for her life, and it’s all her fault. Gladys says, it’s not all her fault, and Brando suggests she start from the beginning. They sit down, and Sasha says, this photographer, this paparazzi guy, started taking pictures of her at the MetroCourt. Gladys says, she’s underselling it; this jerk was harassing her. Sasha says, it was too much, so they left. Next thing they knew, this guy was chasing them down in his car. He was flashing his high beams, and she couldn’t see anything. Gladys says, and this woman ran right into the middle of the road, and Sasha says, she tried to swerve, but she didn’t have time. Brando says, she didn’t do anything wrong; it was an accident. Gladys tells her, that’s what she’s been saying. If that sleazeball hadn’t been coming after them, they wouldn’t have been driving so fast down that stretch of road. They should sue him; so should Willow. Michael’s got lawyers. Brando says, what he doesn’t understand is why the photographer was chasing her. She flashes back to the photographer catching her with the pills, and says, he had his reasons.

Carly says, and Harmony had a needle, and managed to inject her, and Josslyn says, oh God. Carly says she was in the back of her own SUV when she woke up, and heard Harmony and Alexis arguing. When she got out of the car, they were parked on Ramalamadingdong Point, and she jumped Harmony. They fought, and Harmony took off running when she heard Alexis call 9-1-1. Josslyn asks if Alexis is okay, and Carly says, she is; Sam took her home earlier. Alexis is okay, but Harmony jumped in front of a car. She saw Harmony when they brought her to the hospital. She and Alexis weren’t there when Harmony was hit, and she doesn’t know when she was hit. They stayed and waited for the cops, and the paramedics brought them here. Josslyn says she’s confused. Why did Harmony attack Carly in the first place? Carly flashes back to confronting Harmony about Neil’s papers, and saying, this is what Harmony meant that she wishes Willow was hers. Willow isn’t her biological daughter. Carly tells Josslyn, she found out something Harmony was desperately trying to keep secret. Something Willow does not know.

Michael says, one thing he knows about Willow’s mom is, she’s a fighter. There’s nothing she won’t do to fight her way back to Willow. Willow says, when she escaped from Dawn of Day, she would tell herself that she didn’t need a mother. At the time, she was right, but when her mother turned against Shiloh, she began to change, to make amends, and more and more she became the mother she should have been all along. He says, she tried, no question, and Willow says, she’s beginning to understand why some women say they’ll always need their mother, because right now, she needs hers.

Brando asks what reason the photographer had for chasing Sasha, and Gladys says she stole his memory card. He says, she did what? Why would she do that? Gladys says, he wouldn’t stop taking pictures of Sasha, even though every last one of us told him to knock it off. Sasha was getting extremely upset, and she wasn’t about to let some parasite with a camera exploit her daughter-in-law. Sasha says, Willow isn’t going to care about any of that. All that matters is, she hit Willow’s mother with her car, and she might die. Brando tells her, like he said, it was a terrible accident. She didn’t mean to do this. Willow will understand. Sasha says, what if Harmony doesn’t make it? Willow will never forgive her, and she’ll never forgive herself. Brando says, they don’t have any control over that, so let’s not do what ifs. Right now, she just needs to tell Willow what happened. Gladys says, does she? Willow has enough on her plate; Sasha’s a wreck. Can’t it wait? Sasha says, no, it can’t. The only reason she came here is because Willow deserves to hear the truth from her, but she doesn’t know if she can face her. Brando says, there’s no right or wrong here, and Gladys says she doesn’t know if she’d put it like that. Sasha cries, and Brando says, whatever she chooses to do, he’s behind her 100%, but if she goes to tell Willow right now, she’s the strongest person he knows. He knows she can do this. She says, let’s go, and they leave together.

Trina says, she’s the psycho? Says the girl who’s been lurking in the shadows for who knows how long. Spencer asks what Esme is doing here, and Esme says, it’s bad enough Trina has half of Port Charles blaming her for Cam and Joss’s sad little sex tape. Trina says, only half? She’ll have to step up her game. (Ha-ha! Sounds like something I’d say.) Esme says, even though all the evidence points to Trina, Trina’s lies got her kidnapped by Sonny Corinthos. Spencer says, which is why she’s supposed to be back at Windymere, right now. Esme says, that’s what she came to tell him. His grandmother, the mayor, personally intervened on her behalf, and forced Sonny to back down. She’s safe now. Spencer says, that’s great, and Trina says, she’d call it a useless waste of cement. Esme says, thank God Trina didn’t manage to poison everyone against her. How does it feel to know people finally see through her good girl act?

Ava asks why Sonny backed down, and Nikolas says, his mother didn’t tell him Sonny’s rationale, but he was here when she told Esme. So Esme is aware the threat is over. Ava asks when she’s moving out, and he doesn’t say anything. She says, tell her that he’s not letting Esme stay, and he says, they just haven’t set a date for her to move out yet. She says, they have a staff. They can pack up her stuff, put it on the launch, and it can be waiting for her on the pier tonight. He says, Esme isn’t going wait for a launch to come back from town and find her luggage waiting, and she says, so Esme went to the mainland. He says, to tell Spencer the good news, and she says, the good news is that she can stay there. He says, there’s the matter of how she’ll support herself, and Ava says, she has a trust fund. He says, she’s only given a pittance, and Ava says, she was sent to school in Paris. Her life has not been the stuff of Dickens. He says he promises, Esme will leave Windymere and Spoon Island soon. Ava says, she better, and he says, the best part is, once she’s gone, all their problems go with her. Ava caresses his face, saying, my sweet beautiful husband… She smacks him lightly, and says, no they don’t. He says, the root of their problem is that he invited Esme to move in without consulting her, but she says, the roots go far deeper than that. He says, when he invited Esme to stay here, they were planning on renewing their vows. Is she telling him she wasn’t happy? She says, she was, but when he told Esme and Spencer that they could move in, it made her realize she was ignoring some very real issues. He says, such as? Start at the top; what’s their biggest issue? She says she doesn’t trust him. Don’t look so surprised. He doesn’t trust her either. He says, this isn’t about trust. It’s about the fact that he chose his son. That’s what she has an issue with, isn’t it?

Esme says, Trina refuses to take the blame for what she did to her so-called friends, and Spencer says, enough, but she says she’s not going to stand for it anymore. She tells Trina, mark her words, the next time Trina lies about her, there will be consequences. Trina says, Esme talks a good game, but know this. Trina sees her, and soon one day, everyone is going to see her for who she really is, a needy entitled psychopath, who hurts everyone around them, and wonders where they all went. She’ll be all alone with no one left to fool, except maybe that idiot (meaning Spencer). Now she’s going to put this away, and when she comes back, Esme won’t be here. Because she’s trespassing.

Carly tells Josslyn, Harmony is still in surgery, but they don’t think she’s going to make it. Josslyn says, Carly seems pretty worried about someone who just tried to kill her, and Carly says, she’s worried about Willow. She’s got enough on her mind right now. Maybe she should wait to tell her, but Jordan knows. The last thing she wants is for Willow to find out during the course of the investigation, but they probably won’t question Willow tonight, so maybe she should wait. Josslyn says, that’s one way to look at it, and Carly asks, what’s the other way? Josslyn says, can telling Willow really make things much worse?

Michael asks if there’s anything Willow needs, and she says, right now, she needs answers. She thinks she’s strong enough to get them. Michael says, Josslyn is here. So they should go look for her and his mom. Maybe they have an update on Harmony. As they’re leaving, Brando and Sasha walk in, and Michael says, he guesses they heard about Harmony. Brando says, they’re aware of what happened, and Willow says, they were going to check on how her mom was doing. Sasha says, she’s sorry. She knows this is a terrible time, but she needs to talk to Willow alone. Willow says, sure, and Michael says he’ll check on her mom. Willow says she’ll join him later, and Sasha thanks Brando for being here. He says, where else would he be? He kisses her forehead, says she’s got this, and leaves. Willow asks what Sasha needs to talk about.

Michael tells Brando, he saw his mom in the ER and texted Josslyn. Brando asks why Carly was in the ER, and Michael says, she didn’t tell him, but she seemed okay, so he focused on Willow. Brando says, rough night all around. Keep him posted. He’s going to wait for Sasha. As Michael is about to get into the elevator, Smoltz comes along, and says, if it isn’t the husband of the Face of Deception. His sources tell him that Brando’s wife ran down a pedestrian tonight. Any comment?

Josslyn says she’s sorry, but she knows Carly will make the best choice for Willow. Carly says she appreciates Josslyn’s vote of confidence, when Gladys comes by. Carly asks what she’s doing here. Are Sasha and Brando okay? Gladys says, physically, yes. She’s fine too. Carly says she can see that, and Josslyn’s phone rings. She leaves to take the call, and Gladys asks if there’s any word on Harmony. Is she going to pull through? Carly says she doesn’t know. Why is Gladys asking? Gladys says, because she cares deeply about the suffering of others. Carly might want to look into that sometime. Also, Sasha was the one who ran over Harmony. Carly says, oh my God, and Gladys says, believe her, she knows. She was in the car. Carly asks where Sasha is, and Gladys says, Brando took her to see Willow. She’s dreading what’s going to happen when Sasha tells her.

Willow asks how Sasha found out about her mom; did Carly call her? Sasha says, no. She knows because… It’s so hard to say. She and Gladys were driving on a back road. She was driving, and a guy was chasing them; it’s not important why. The point is, he was flashing his high beams in her rearview, and it was blinding her. She couldn’t see and the road was dark. Out of nowhere, someone ran in front of her car. She couldn’t see who it was until she get out to help, and she’s so sorry, it was Willow’s mother. Well, here’s a thought. Why don’t she and Gladys flip the script? Since the headlights were blinding, technically, it’s the jerkface photographer’s fault.

Spencer tells Esme not to let Trina get to her, but she says, Trina isn’t the one getting to her. Why is it that every time she sees him with Trina, they’re having a moment of some kind? He says, it wasn’t a moment. He didn’t say anything he wouldn’t have said in front of her. She says, even the part where he was jealous about some guy? He says, not jealous, annoyed. When he got here, she was talking to the cop who arrested him. Esme asks, why? and he says, the whole sex tape mess has the media harassing her. She says, gee too bad, and he says, he doesn’t hate that guy because he’s jealous; he hates him because he’s a jerk. She says, even so, she can’t help thinking history is repeating itself, but he says, trust him, it’s not. She’s the one he has eyes on.

Brando asks who this is, and Michael tells Smoltz, this is not a good time. Brando says, Michael knows this creep? and Smoltz says, this creep is happens to be doing Mr. Corinthos a favor, and Michael says, Smoltz is a reporter, and he and Willow are cooperating with him on a feature. Smoltz says he’s always on the lookout for the next good story. He takes out his phone, and says, Mr. Gilmore – Brando says, Corbin – about this pedestrian his wife ran down… Brando says, no comment, and Smoltz says, it’s better for him to get a quote from Sasha herself, or as his source called her, the Face of Collision. Brando lunges for him, but Michael gets between them, and pushes Brando back. Smoltz says, he has rights under the First Amendment, and Brando says, he fought in the US Military to protect Smoltz’s rights; he’s well aware of what they are. His First Amendment rights only protect him from government censorship. Michael runs a media company; does he have that correct? Michael says, he sure does, and Brando says he thought so. He gets close to Smoltz, and asks if he looks like the government. It’s a simple question. Smoltz says, no, and Brando says, which means, the First Amendment won’t protect Smoltz if he catches him even breathing the same air as his wife. Nothing personal, but he’ll make sure Smoltz is incapable of ever writing any story ever again. He doubts the other journalists will miss him, or find him if they did. Understood? Smoltz nods and leaves, and Michael asks, what happened to Sasha?

Willow says, Sasha is the one who hit her mom? and Sasha swears it was an accident. She’s so sorry. She’d do anything, give anything, to make it so it didn’t happen. Is there anything she can do? That’s so stupid. Of course (🍷) there’s nothing, but she’s here for Willow if Willow needs anything. She’s probably the last person Willow wants to see, so she’s just going to go. Willow tells her, wait. Was she with Carly and Alexis? Sasha says, what? and Willow says, Carly and Alexis were with her mom before the accident, but Sasha says, no. She was coming from the MetroCourt. Willow wants to ask Sasha a question. It might seem a little strange, but did it seem like her mom jumped in front of Sasha’s car on purpose? Sasha says she doesn’t know; it happened so fast. It felt more like Willow’s mom just didn’t see her. Willow cries, and Sasha says she knows Willow and her mom haven’t had the easiest relationship, but they were making amends. She’s so sorry this happened because of her. Willow is the last person who deserves this. She asks if she should get Michael, and Willow says, she just wants some of this, any of this, to make sense.

Gladys tells Carly that she’s worried about Sasha. She doesn’t know how much more Sasha can take. Carly says, as long as she’s known Sasha, she’s weathered crisis after crisis, and come back tougher every time. Gladys says, that was before. Since her grandson died, Sasha’s been an open wound. If Sasha killed her friend’s mother, what is she going to do? Carly says, they’ll get her through it, and Gladys says, Carly didn’t see Sasha with that photographer. Sasha has dealt with photographers before, and knows how to handle the paparazzi when they’re being jerks, but tonight she was a different person; panicked, desperate, and the way she snapped… Josslyn comes back, and Gladys excuses herself. Josslyn asks if everything is okay with Brando and Sasha, and Carly says she just needs a hug. They hug, and Josslyn asks if Carly is sure she’s okay. Carly says, it’s just been a night. So much devastation. She wants Josslyn to know she loves her, and she’s so grateful to have her. They hug again.

Ava says, she and Spencer will never be each other’s favorite people, but he’s Nikolas’s son. She meant it when she said she’d keep their issues out of her and Nikolas’s relationship. Esme though, was never part of that agreement. He says, as long as Esme is important to Spencer, she’s part of that agreement, but Ava says, not as long as Esme is a threat to Trina, she’s not. This isn’t about Spencer and Esme; this is about her and Nikolas. He says, she’s right. It’s about their marriage and their partnership. He should have consulted her before inviting Esme to live there, but when she had a problem with Esme, she went to Sonny instead of consulting him. She asks what there was to consult him about. He was giving that horrid little monster the benefit of the doubt, while she was framing Trina for something even her so-called victims know she didn’t do. He says, so she’s trying to punish him, and she says, not without good reason. He says, and her mystery plans tonight, did they involve exploring divorce? She says, of course (🍷) not. That ship sailed weeks ago. He says, when was this? and she says, the day he invited Esme into their home. He says, she can go on about not trusting him, but how is he supposed to trust her when she always has one foot out the door? She says, if he wants her to stop straddling the threshold, then stop pushing her away. He says, at least give him a heads up. Should he be expecting divorce papers soon? She says, not yet. She couldn’t go through with it. He asks, why, when she can’t trust their toxic manipulative marriage? Why the hell is she still here? She says, because she loves him, and he says he doesn’t believe it. She says, believe this, and kisses him.

Esme takes Spencer’s hands, and thanks him, saying, he’s the only one for her too. They hug, and Trina sees, but steps back. Esme says she feels close to him, and he says he’s sorry it’s taken him so long to get back on track. He thanks her for letting him take it slow, but she says she doesn’t care how long it takes, just as long as they do. He says, it’s their second chance; he wants to do things right. She says, he’s not the problem. When she thinks of how close Trina came to destroying them… He says, Esme… but she says she can’t help it. That conniving little witch drove a wedge between them. She wants a front row seat at Trina’s trial. She wants to see Trina’s face when they lock her away. She can’t wait for everyone at school to see what a backstabbing bitch… He says, stop talking about Trina like that, and she says, why? Trina continues to listen.

Brando tells Michael, Sasha’s the one who hit Harmony, and Michael asks, how? Brando says, some photographer was harassing her at the MetroCourt. He chased after her, and she was speeding to get away. Harmony ran into the middle of the road. Michael says, oh my God. How is Sasha doing? Brando says, she’s devastated. It’s enough with an accident like that, but what she’s really having trouble with is hurting Willow. Michael says, as terrible as all this is, he hopes Willow will have some answers. Sasha might not have the whole story, but he has the feeling his mom does.

Gladys presses the elevator button a bunch of times, takes the memory card out of her purse, and looks at it. The elevator comes, and she gets in.

Josslyn asks if Carly is going to talk to Willow now or later, and Carly asks what Josslyn thinks. Josslyn says, if it was her, she’d probably want to know right away, but she’d understand if Carly thinks it’s piling too much on Willow. Carly says, Josslyn doesn’t? and Josslyn says, she does, but there’s never going to be a good time.

Esme asks if Spencer is still defending Trina, but he says, for God’s sake. He doesn’t care about Trina; he cares about her. If Trina leans over any further, she’ll be in the room, and Esme says, then why? Spencer says, all of this anger Esme is holding in can’t be good for her. She’s tied in knots. She’s scowling; her forehead is scrunching up. The both of them almost laugh, and he says, he’s serious. All this stress she’s carrying around, let it go. She says, she’ll try, but she just hates that Trina is getting away with everything. He asks how she thinks he feels, but her and Trina getting in each other’s face is making it worse. She asks what she’s supposed to do. Trina is walking around free, blaming her. He tells her to look at him. Does she trust him? She says, of course (🍷), and he tells her, then trust him when he says this is all going to be over soon, and when it is, she and Trina will never have to see each other ever again. He hugs her, and Trina slips back, pondering this in the hallway.

Nikolas and Ava start getting busy on the couch, but she says, they can’t do this. She gets up and says, their problems aren’t going to go away if they keep distracting themselves with sex. He says, this isn’t a diversion. It’s them expressing their love. They do love each other, right? She says, they do, and he says, if they have problems, they can fix them. She says, they can’t fix them with sex, and he says, then just tell him what he has to do to make it good, and he’ll do it. She says she doesn’t know, and he says, while she’s figuring it out, let him prove that she can trust him. She says, trust is earned; it’s built over time. And if he thinks he can fix things with one or two grand gestures, she’s sorry; he can’t. She leaves, and he blows out the candles.

Sasha tells Willow that she wishes she could make it okay. All she can say is, it was a horrible, senseless accident. Willow wonders what her mom was doing there in the first place. Why was she in the woods, stumbling into the road? Carly comes in, and says, she can answer that. She asks Sasha if she can have minute with Willow. They need talk alone. Willow takes Sasha’s hand for a moment, and Sasha leaves.

On Monday, Austin says, if Maxie doesn’t want to hang out, all she has to do is say so; Spinelli says someone will be the first to know: Nina asks if Sonny is looking for someone; and Carly tells Willow to prepare herself.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At a closed Savoy, Curtis looks at a chip in his hand, and N’neka says she’s glad the private party brought their own staff. She could have never cleaned up and then come in early. Not for a party that went until four in the morning. Jordan comes in and says, four in the morning. That must have been a helluva party.

Marshall waits on Pier 54, where they’ll soon be putting a 7/11, when Trina comes along, wearing an orange top that looks dynamite on her. She sees his bag, and asks if he’s going on a trip.

Ned thanks everyone for coming, and says, it’s days like today that remind them of the importance of family. A family, he’s glad to say, is expanding. He’s always thought of Leo as his son, but as of today, it’s official; it’s legal. The adoption of Leo has come through. Everyone is like, yay, and Olivia says, Leo wanted to have the same last name as his mom and dad. Ned says, without further ado, let’s have a toast to my son, Leo, and Leo says, Leo Quartermaine, hugging Ned.

Harmony comes downstairs, telling herself that she shouldn’t have had anything to drink last night. She sees Brendon’s bag and runs over to it, checking the files inside, when Alexis comes in with coffee. She says, Harmony looks like she’s been to hell and back. I laugh because Harmony looks better than me on my best day.

Sam says she didn’t think Carly was going to make it, and Carly says, Olivia isn’t just her partner, she’s one of her closest friends. She’s happy to be here. She’s just upset that Monica had to go to that convention, and couldn’t be here to celebrate Leo becoming a Quartermaine. Thank you, because I was wondering where she was. Dante says he needs a refill, and leaves, and Carly says she deserved that. Are things any better with Sam and Dante? Sam says they still have to hash some things out.

In the foyer, Leo tells Drew, adoption isn’t just for humans. Drew says, of course (🍷). People can adopt dogs and cats. Leo says, and animals can adopt other animals, especially animals that live by the water, like seagulls and elephant seals. Drew says he didn’t know that (me neither). That’s so cool. Brook says, her little bro is on his way to being a marine biologist. Leo says, he read it in the book Chase gave him for Christmas, and asks where Chase is. He promised he’d be here. Brook says, that’s a really good question. She doesn’t know where Chase is.

Chase is at the hospital, getting dressed. He tries to use his phone, but the screen is smashed and nothing works. He says, dammit. Portia comes in, and says, wow. He’s not going to waste any time getting out of here. He says he has somewhere to be this morning, and he’s already late. She says, he had a concussion. He’s not going anywhere until she signs off on it.

Elizabeth sees Finn, and says, she was just checking on Cameron. Finn asks how he is, and she says, if he wasn’t already 18, he’d be grounded forever. She thanks Finn for bailing Cameron out, and says, Cameron is worried about Chase after finding him unconscious in their living room. How is he? Finn says, awake and alert, and she says, thank God. She’s been a nurse way too long not to know accidents like these can be way more serious. He says, if it was an accident, and she says, let’s hope. The alternative is kind of freaking her out. He says, that the person who’s been stalking her family has now turned violent.

At the door to Chase’s room, Finn asks if it’s okay if they come in, and Portia says, patient’s decision. Chase says, please, come in, and Portia says she can confirm Chase’s concussion has passed. She’ll make arrangements for him to be discharged, but do her a favor and have somebody else drive him home. He thanks her, and she leaves. Finn says, a concussion? Really? Chase says he guesses he knocked something off the shelf when he was checking the cameras. Either that, or Aiden was onto something with his Ouija board. Elizabeth says, Ouija board? What is he talking about?

On the phone, Brook leaves a message for Chase, saying, she has a very special guest of honor who’s wondering where he is. She’s wondering too. She tells Leo that she’s sorry; she just got Chase’s voicemail. She doesn’t know where he is, but he’ll be here soon. Olivia says she knows Ned gives Chase a hard time, but he was so great with Leo, especially when he was with Brook and Bailey. That’s how she convinced Leo to participate in the whole theater therapy thing. She reminded him that Ned, Chase, and his big sister Brook Lynn are all performers. Brook says, Chase isn’t loving performing lately, and Drew asks what theater therapy is. Olivia says, it’s an after-school program for kids on the spectrum that uses theater skits to help them learn about speech, taking turns, or eye contact, that kind of thing. Ned says, and the whole thing culminates with a performance for the families for Autism Awareness Month. Drew says, that’s really something, and Olivia says, Leo’s been loving it. He’s making a lot of new friends, and he’s going to recite a poem for the show. She asks why Leo doesn’t recite his poem for everyone, but Leo says, the show isn’t until next week. Olivia says, she knows, but kind of like a sneak peek for family and friends. Why doesn’t he get his notecards? Leo says, okay, and goes upstairs.

Carly says she’s so sorry she put Sam in that position with Dante, but Sam says she’s a big girl. She chose to forward that email to Carly, so she could prove that Esme is behind that video of Joss and Cam. Carly says, she knows, but Sam has enough going on with her own family. Has she talked to Alexis this morning? Sam says, not since last night. Does Carly know what’s going on with Harmony? They’re not friends by any means, but she was a little concerned that Harmony was so drunk, she couldn’t stand. Carly says, Harmony said something really strange last night, and flashes back to saying, Willow’s her family, and Harmony saying, she wishes Willow was hers. She tells Sam, it was probably nothing. Harmony was so drunk she wasn’t making any sense. Willow asks what Carly is saying about her mom.

Alexis gives Harmony some coffee, and Harmony says she’s sure she owes Alexis an apology from last night. She was so drunk, she doesn’t even remember everything. Alexis says she doesn’t really expect anyone to abstain because she has to, but Harmony really did cross a line last night. Harmony says, she did? She’s so sorry. What did she do? Alexis says, Harmony bought her a drink and told her to drink it. Harmony says she didn’t know what she was thinking. She’s so, so sorry. It’s never going to happen again; Alexis knows that, right? She doesn’t drink. She’s not a drinker, except for the occasional glass of wine. Alexis asks why Harmony thinks she was kicking back double shots of whiskey? It’s very clear something’s bothering her. Harmony says she thinks the thought of Nina taking Willow to court, the whole situation’s going to snowball, and she’s all tied up in knots. Alexis says, she was hoping to break it to Harmony first, but she had the feeling Smoltz had gotten to her. Harmony asks what she means, and Alexis says, he’s a freelance reporter for The Invader, and he’s doing an in-depth piece on Nina’s quest to get visitation with Wiley.

Marshall tells Trina that he’s just waiting for his boat to arrive. He thought it would be a good idea to get out of town. She says, sounds great. With everything happening in her life, she wishes she could get away too. Missing school and her job and everything else is just… He says he has faith in her. All this is going to work out for her. Stay strong. He makes a fist, and she bumps it and thanks him. She looks at his bag, and says, he’s not a light packer, is he? How long is he going to be gone for? He looks at her, and she says, oh. Is he leaving for good? He says, it’s complicated, and she says, try her. He says, he had hoped to rejoin his family as if nothing had ever happened. That was foolish on his part. He has too many ghosts chasing after him. It would be easier if everyone just forgets he was here.

Curtis says, he didn’t know Jordan kept such close tabs on his nightclub. He assures her, everything was on the up and up, and he knows nightclubs can stay open for private parties well after 2 am. She says she was just teasing him. She’s really happy that the club is booming. She just stopped by to see how he and Portia were doing. He says, they’re fine. The rest is between her and Portia. She says, that was a little abrupt. She thought they were in a good place yesterday. She’s trying her best. She knows he has a lot on his plate. He says, she doesn’t know the half of it, and she asks what he means by that. Selena comes in, and says, apologies. She didn’t know he had company.

Michael tells Drew, it’s a good strategy. It’s aggressive; it’s unexpected. He can see why it would be good for business. Drew says, that’s probably why she gets paid the big bucks. Ned asks if they’re talking about Aurora, and Drew says, in a sense, but they’re also talking about ELQ. He got in touch with his lawyer, and he can reclaim Scout’s shares, which is great, but Valentin is still in control of Danny’s shares, which means he will control nearly half of the voting stock. All it’ll take is one disgruntled Quartermaine to flip, and they’ll be back in the same situation. Michael says, and they all know how easy it is for one of their family members to turn, and Ned says, that’s true, but what’s the alternative? Drew says he met with an executive business coach last night. She thought the best strategy would be for ELQ and Aurora to merge.

Elizabeth says, Finn told her that Aiden stopped by the house while she was sleeping? and Chase says, yeah. He was going to mention it this morning, but… He touches his head, and Elizabeth asks, but why did he come home? Chase says, he said he had a school project about ghosts. He had a Ouija board with him. He thought it was kind of strange, but maybe Aiden had a a project for science class. She says, he doesn’t have a project like that, and Chase says, eventually he figured that out, but not before Aiden tricked him into trying to contact someone specific. She asks if it’s who she thinks, and he says, Aiden was trying to contact Franco.

Selena asks if this is a bad time, and Jordan says, The Savoy isn’t open for business yet. Isn’t that right, Curtis? Curtis says, he and Miss Wu had a previously scheduled appointment. She wants to rent the club out for a private party. Selena says, yes. She has a family birthday coming up, and they want to celebrate in style. She tells Curtis that she can come back later, but Curtis says, this is a good time. Just let him wrap things up with Jordan. Selena goes over to the bar, and Jordan’s phone dings. She checks it, and says she has to go. She knows he can handle himself, but it would be prudent if he’s previously booked on the nights Selena wants the place. He says, duly noted, and she leaves. Selena asks if his ex-wife is always going to be hanging around, and he says, that’s why she chose this place, right? Because of his connections. He’s more than delivered on his end of the bargain. Her event was a success last night, well into the morning. Now does she have what he wants? She says, as agreed. His father’s sealed arrest record. She takes a file out of her bag, and he holds his hand out, but she pulls it back, and says, now that she’s delivered on her word, she expects him to deliver on his.

Carly says, she’s sorry. She doesn’t want Willow to think she and Sam were gossiping about her mom. She was just asking about Alexis. Willow tells her, don’t apologize, but if she could just clarify. Her mom was really drunk? Sam says, she and Carly saw Harmony at the MetroCourt, and she was definitely overserved. Willow says she saw her mom yesterday at the MetroCourt. She had a drink, and she did seem distracted, but not drunk. Sam says, sorry. She doesn’t know what to tell Willow. Maybe this happened after Willow saw her. Carly says, she did check with the bartender, and Harmony had three double whiskeys. That’s a lot of liquor. Willow says, she can’t remember the last time she saw her mom drink hard alcohol, and she’s never seen her drunk. Sam says, it definitely wasn’t just the whiskey. Harmony was upset about something. Willow says, now she’s really worried. Her mom’s been acting out of sorts for weeks now. Carly says she thinks she knows why.

Harmony says, this man is writing a feature on Nina’s petition? and Alexis says, a five-part feature, and Michael and Willow have given him an exclusive. Since Harmony is Willow’s mother, he wanted to reach out to her for a comment, and do a deeper dive into Willow’s background and family. Harmony jumps up, and says, absolutely not!

Elizabeth says, Aiden wanted to contact Franco? and Chase nods. He says, he knows it’s hard to hear, but with all the strange happenings at the house, Aiden has it in his head that Franco’s ghost is trying to reach out to her. Elizabeth says, maybe Franco doesn’t want her to move on, and Finn says, he’s just a kid, looking for an explanation. It’s probably easier for him to believe that Franco’s ghost is reaching out, rather than accept someone’s breaking into their house. Elizabeth says, maybe. It just seems like every time she and the boys start to move on, there’s another reminder of how traumatized they still are.

Jordan sees Portia at the hospital, and says, she understands Chase was brought in last night. Portia says, he’s right in there, indicating one of the rooms, and Jordan starts to go, but Portia says, wait a second. She wants to apologize for her behavior yesterday. Jordan didn’t deserve to be chewed out in that way. She knows Jordan was just doing her job. Jordan says, Portia wants to protect her kid. She’s been there, and doesn’t blame her. Portia says, Jordan can blame her for making it personal, making it about her history with Curtis, especially when he told her that Jordan is working behind the scenes to find out who really filmed Josslyn and Cam. Jordan says she can’t comment on an ongoing investigation, but for what it’s worth (🍷), she knows the type of young woman Trina is. She has a good moral compass, and a good heart, just like her mom.

Marshall says he has places to go, but Trina says she doesn’t understand. He was just getting closer to TJ and Curtis. And isn’t Epiphany fond of him too? Won’t he miss them? He says, of course (🍷) he’ll miss them. Of course (🍷). More than they will ever know, but sometimes the truth hurts so much, it’s better left buried. She says, but he told her the truth is worth fighting for. He also said it’s okay to take care of yourself. If he’s leaving because he thinks it would be easier on his family, he’s ignoring his own advice. He says, maybe he is doing it for himself. Maybe he realized it’s bad for him to be around his family again. She asks, why?

Curtis says, Selena needed a venue and he provided one. Her even was a success. She says, the first of many was their arrangement, and he says he’s not sure who she’s used to dealing with, but he doesn’t break his word. Her gambling operation may continue from time to time, as long as that’s all it entails. She says, well, it’s a start, and puts the file on the bar. She says, before she goes, let her give him some advice. Although she hasn’t read the file herself, she knows a thing or two about trust in a family. If you look for skeletons in the closet, you’re likely to find them, for better or worse. But once he crosses that line and opens that file, there’s no going back.

Elizabeth says she still can’t wrap her head around this. Aiden believes Franco is haunting them? Chase nods, and Jordan comes to the door. She asks if it’s a bad time, and Chase says, of course (🍷) not, and asks her to come in. She says she heard what happened, and wanted to follow up with him. He says, it was probably just a clumsy accident, and she says she hopes that’s all it is. He was injured in a house that was recently broken into. She’d like to rule out anything criminal. He says, it might be easier than she thinks. He staged cameras all over the house.

Harmony says, Alexis knows how messy her past is. She’s not going to let some reporter go digging around in her private life. Alexis says, Michael and Willow are key to the story; Smoltz has to do background on them. If Harmony doesn’t want to participate, fine. She’s sure Smoltz can find another way to do the interview without interviewing her. Harmony says, no. The article isn’t going to run in Alexis’s paper at all.

Carly says she thinks it’s clear the whole Nina situation has taken a toll on Harmony, and Willow says she hates to think what Harmony’s reaction to the article will be. Carly says, it’s going to be tough on Harmony, but she’ll get through it, because Willow is her daughter and Willow needs this. Willow thanks Carly for the nice words, and leaves. Carly asks if Sam will give her apologies to Olivia; she has to take off. Sam asks if everything is okay, and Carly says she just wants to follow up with Alexis. She didn’t want to worry Willow, but she has the feeling Harmony knows more about the Nina situation than she’s letting on. Sam tells her, good luck, and Carly leaves.

Alexis says, she can’t publish the story? Where’s this coming from? Harmony says, Alexis of all people should understand, the more it’s investigated, the more likely it is that someone will make the connection that Willow isn’t her biological daughter. Alexis says, Willow isn’t her biological daughter. Just tell Willow the truth. If anyone can understand how you can mother a child, and not give birth, it’s Willow. But it’s Harmony’s secret to keep, not The Invader’s. She’ll make sure nothing is said about the commune, Harmony, and Willow. She’ll make sure it’s not published. Harmony says, once it’s out there, there’s no way to control it. You don’t know who will start digging or what they’ll find. Her relationship with Willow is so fragile as it is. This article is trouble for everyone involved. Alexis asks what Harmony would like her to do; kill the story? Harmony says, yes. It’s the least Alexis can do after all she’s done for Alexis. Alexis owes her that.

Michael says, in addition to increasing ELQ’s value, and creating a new revenue stream, Valentin’s shares will be diluted, making it nearly impossible for him to have the majority again. Ned says, but that would leave Drew with the overwhelming majority of interest in the company. So where does that leave him? Drew says, they haven’t gotten that far yet. Things aren’t sorted. Why are they talking about this on Leo’s big day? They have a lot of time to work things out; talk strategy before it’s all figured out.

Olivia claps her hands, and says, all right, everyone. It’s her great pleasure to introduce the newest member of the Quartermaine family. Brook says, they’re loud, they’re crazy, but they’re very loyal, and everyone laughs. Olivia tells Leo to show everyone what he’s been practicing. Leo says, no! throws the file cards down, and runs upstairs.

Finn tells Jordan, he asked Chase to stay at Elizabeth’s to provide some security. To that end, he installed cameras in the entrances and hallways. Chase says, the plan was to pull up the footage on his phone, but – he shows her the phone – it broke last night. She says, the object that knocked him out also busted his phone? and he says, or maybe he broke it when he fell. She asks if the footage can be accessed by another device, and he says, yes, but you have to log in the first time on the home network. Jordan asks Elizabeth if they can look at the footage at her house, and she says, of course (🍷). If it gets them answers, that’d be great. Chase says he’ll come back later to sign the paperwork, and Jordan says, she appreciates his enthusiasm, but she needs him to keep his distance. He says, but he set up the cameras, and she says, if there was a crime committed, they can’t afford to corrupt the investigation. He’d be the victim, and he’s also a suspended detective. She needs him to respect the line between civilian and cop. Is that understood? He says, understood, and she says she’ll talk to him later. She and Elizabeth leave, and Finn says he’ll be back in a minute to drive Chase home. Stay put.

Trina asks why it’s bad for Marshall to be around his family, and  he says, there are things a girl like her couldn’t possibly understand. She says, try her, and he says, they were raised in different eras. She says, what does that even mean? and he says, forget it. She says, whatever he’s running from, it can’t be worse than never seeing his family again. He tells her, if she’d said that a few weeks back, he might have agreed with her, and she says, what changed? He says she’s given him a lot to think about. He doesn’t want to keep her. Doesn’t she have a gallery to get to? She says, that’s not fair using work against her, and the ferry horn blows. He says, she’s an ambitious young lady. If she wants to find her dreams, remember, it’s important to prioritize. She says she’ll see him around… she hopes. He says, if he doesn’t see her again, it’s been a privilege getting to know her.

Curtis says, he appreciates Selena’s advice, but his issues with his father are none of her concern. She says she supposes not. They’ll talk soon. She leaves, and he picks up the folder. He opens it, takes out a photo and document, and looks distressed

Harmony says, when she saw Alexis was alone at Spring Ridge, and saw she was struggling, she supported her. When Alexis got out, and made sure Harmony knew she wasn’t worthy to be her friend, she still supported Alexis. So she’s asking for Alexis’s support now. If Alexis is truly her friend, she’ll do this for her; no questions asked, Please kill this story. Alexis says, if Harmony is truly her friend, she woudn’t put her in this position, She’s going to go to work. When she gets back, they need to have a serious conversation. Maybe it’s time they reevaluate their arrangement. She leaves, and Harmony picks up a vase, smashes it on the floor, and says, dammit!

Brook, Olivia, and Ned find Leo sitting on the steps, and Brook asks, what’s wrong? He says he doesn’t want to read the cards, and Olivia says, he doesn’t have to. She didn’t want to put any pressure on him. She just wants him to know how proud she is of him. He can save it all for the big show. Leo says, no. He’s not going to be in the play anymore. He runs upstairs, and Olivia tells Ned, she messed this up, but he says, he’s got it. He follows Leo upstairs, and Olivia tells Brook, she doesn’t know what happened. The counselors are all saying he’s making such great progress. She hopes he’s not regressing. Brook tells her not to jump to conclusions. This may not have anything to do with Leo being on the spectrum; a lot of kids get stage fright. Olivia hopes she’s right, and Brook says she’s been known to get stage fright herself; she recognizes the signs. Olivia says, she’s going to check on him. Maybe if it turns out to be that, Brook and Chase could give him a little pep talk, since they’re both performers. She goes upstairs, and Brook says, if Chase ever shows.

Portia tells Chase, good news. She’s got his discharge paperwork. All he needs to do is sign, and he’s out of here. He says he has to wait for his brother for a ride. Finn is playing detective with his boss. He signs, gives her back the clipboard, and asks if she happens to have any of the Quartermaine’s phone numbers. He has to reach out to Brook. She says, he doesn’t have their numbers? and he says, not memorized, no. That’s the downside of having everything stored in your phone. It’s great until it breaks. She asks why he needs Brook, and he says, the Quartermaines are having a big family day, and he promised her that he’d be there. She says she thinks Brook will understand once she finds out he was in the hospital, and he says, it’s been tricky with them, trying to out their friendship without Bailey between them. He feels like he keeps disappointing her. He guesses that bump on the head shook him up more than he realized. He doesn’t usually open up to people he doesn’t know. She says, in her experience, she’s found a little effort can go a long way, and he says, since his phone is busted, can she help him order a Ride Share?

At Elizabeth’s house, Finn points out where they found Chase, and says, that was on the floor beside him. We see a metal giraffe sculpture on the floor, and Jordan says, no one saw what hit Chase, right? Elizabeth says, she was upstairs, asleep, and Finn says he was bailing out Cameron. Jordan picks up the sculpture (wearing gloves) and asks Elizabeth if she can download the app, so they can see the security camera footage. Elizabeth says, sure, and Jordan says, while Elizabeth is doing that, does she mind if Jordan looks around? Elizabeth says, of course (🍷), and Finn says, he gave the place a once over. All the doors and windows were locked. Jordan says, that didn’t stop the intruder before, so let’s cover all our bases. Jordan goes upstairs, and Elizabeth tells Finn, the app might take a few minutes to download, She sees the Ouija board, and says, she didn’t think anything of it until Chase said something. How could she have missed that? He tells her, don’t be hard on herself. She’s had a lot going on. She’s been a parent long enough to know when things get confusing, or sad, or a little scary, kids latch on to a fantasy to make sense of everything.

Curtis says, dammit Marshall, and hears Trina come in. He says, they’re not open, and she says, Curtis. He shoves everything back in the folder, and asks what she’s doing here. She says she was on her way to work, and had the feeling he might want to know, and he says, know what? She says, she saw his dad at the pier, and he had a bag with him. He said he’s leaving town.

At the pier, Marshall looks at a ticket.

Sam asks Dante if she can please take another second to apologize for putting a wedge between them. She’s trying to find the boundaries in this relationship is, and it’s been a really long time since she’s been with someone who… He says, it’s cool; she can tell him anything. She says, someone who plays by the rules. He says he’s sorry too. He feels like he came down harder on her than he needed to. She says she understands he needs to feel that he can trust her, and she fully intends to prove he can. He says he does trust her. He was disappointed that she looked at privileged information. He knows she has this impression that he’s Johnny Follow-the-Rules, but he has been known to break the rules from time to time. He’s also finding the line in the relationship. She says she thinks it’s good news that they have all the time in the world, because she doesn’t plan on going anywhere. He says, him either, because he loves her. She says she loves him too, and they kiss.

Brook opens the door to Chase, and says, he’d better have a good excuse. He brings a huge bouquet of flowers out from behind his back, and she sort of smiles.

Jordan says, she did a sweep of the entire house. There’s no sign of forced entry. She suggests they take a look at Chase’s footage, Elizabeth says, it’s ready. Jordan says, let’s see what happened last night, and Elizabeth asks if it’s fair to say she’s a little nervous, and Jordan says, of course (🍷). They’re all just trying to find answers. They see Chase reaching for the camera, and the screen goes black. Elizabeth asks, what happened? and Jordan says, it looks like the file is corrupted. Finn asks, how is that possible?

The ferry horn blows again, and Marshall gets up. He says, time to go, and picks up his bag. Curtis says, running away again, huh? and Marshall turns to see him on the pier.

Harmony takes the file folder out of Brendon’s bag. She looks at the fireplace, and says, she’ll burn it, and that will be the end of it. She pulls out all the papers, and puts them in the fireplace, but there are no matches on the mantel. She goes out of the room, and Carly knocks at the door. She calls to Alexis, knocks, and calls again. She starts to leave, and says, she knows  that’s Harmony’s car in the driveway. Harmony returns with the fireplace matches, and is about to light up the papers, when Carly walks in and says, Harmony?

On Monday, Curtis asks why Marshall didn’t just tell him; Michael says he wants nothing to do with someone; Diane asks Alexis, why would she even think about that; Sonny needs to ask Willow a favor; and Carly asks Harmony, what’s going on with her and Nina?

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Music plays way too loud as Mr. Novak walks into the chapel. He and Jason give each other the eye. Spinelli asks Jason if he’s sure about this. He’s not referring to the wedding, but the other thing. Jason says, sure, and Spinelli says, let fate take its course. Monica comes in, and tells Jason that he looks so handsome. The bride is a lucky woman. He says he thinks he’s the lucky one, and she says, they disagree; that’s good. What’s a Quartermaine wedding without a little conflict? He says, true, and she asks if he’s nervous. Who is she talking to? Of course (🍷) he’s not nervous. He says he’s glad she’s there, and she says, he’s her son. Where else would she be? They hug.

Bobbie comes into Carly’s dressing room, and says she’s dazzling. Jason won’t know what hit him. She’s going to take his breath away. Not that she’ll be able to tell. Carly says she will, and Bobbie says, that’s true. If anyone can read what Jason is feeling, it’s her. Carly says he can read her too, and Bobbie says, no bridal jitters? No second thoughts? Carly says, no, and Bobbie says, because she happens to know Carly disappeared for a couple of hours this morning. She thought Carly might have a case of cold feet. Carly says, no. She was feeling nostalgic. She was remembering how she and Jason first met, and everything they’ve been through. Jason tracked her down, and they had a long talk. Bobbie says, good. She can actually get Jason to talk. If that’s not love, she doesn’t know what is. Carly says she was late for the makeup artist, but Josslyn helped her pull everything together. How did she get such an amazing daughter? Bobbie says, circle of life. One day, they come into town, hellbent on destroying you, and all of a sudden you blink, and they don’t need you anymore. Carly says, that’s not true. She’s always going to need Bobbie. They hug, and Josslyn walks in with the bouquet. She says, Maxie asked to deliver these, but she made Maxie let her. She hands the bouquet to Carly, and asks if she’s ready. Carly holds the bouquet and asks what they think. Bobbie says she’s one beautiful bride, and Josslyn tells her, what grandma said.

Cameron looks at his phone, when Trina snatches it out of his hand. She says she thinks it’s time for a digital detox, and he says he was just waiting for her. They hug, and he says, Josslyn told him that Trina’s mom was in an accident. Is she okay? What happened? Trina says, thankfully, yes. She doesn’t want to get into it right now, but let’s just say, it’s been quite a day. He says he’s glad she’s all right. He’s also glad Trina is there. Josslyn’s been so busy with her maid of honor duties, he’s been at major risk of boredom. She says, and now that she’s here? and he says, it’s time to have some fun. Or, they can be bored together. She says, sounds like a plan.

Ned tells Olivia to stop giving Austin the evil eye, and she asks how else she’s supposed to put a curse on him. He asks if a curse isn’t a little extreme, and she asks who the hell Austin thinks he is, telling her there’s something wrong with her child. Ned says, a doctor?

Maxie tells Austin that she needs to check in with the bride. Can she trust him to be on his own for ten minutes? He says he hopes so, but realistically, there’s probably one or two people left in Port Charles that he hasn’t unsettled. She asks, what Olivia is miffed at him about anyway? She usually stays out of ELQ business. He asks how she knows that, and she says, because Olivia often says, ELQ, not my business. He says, that’s probably a pretty good clue. Olivia isn’t upset at Austin the Quartermaine; she’s upset at Austin the doctor. She says, so this has to do with whatever he and Ned were talking about after he found Leo. He tells her, here’s what he’ll say. He can hardly blame Olivia for being defensive; she just cares about her kid. Maxie says, of course (🍷) she does, and he says, so do I.

On the phone, Brando tells Sasha to put her feet up, and he’ll bring her a slice of cake. He wants her and the baby to take it easy, and he’ll see her soon. Gladys walks in with Novak, and she says, he remembers her son Brando. He says, of course (🍷). It’s a pleasure to see him. They shake hands, and Gladys says, wasn’t it kind of Mr. Novak to bring her as a guest to her dear, departed cousin’s widow’s wedding? My Lord, what would Sonny make of his wife moving on so soon after meeting his maker?

Nina tries to go back inside the Tan-O, but Jax says he’s not letting her go in there. It’s too dangerous. She says, Mike’s still in there; they have to help him. She yells, Mike! and struggles with Jax.

Lying unconscious in the middle of the burning Tan-O, Sonny coughs.

Diane tells Jason that she’s happy for him and Carly. Jason says they’re happy too, and she says she’s glad to hear it. Carly was full of substantial misgivings when she first approached Diane about it. He says, she was afraid it would ruin their friendship, but Diane says, it was a little deeper than that. Carly thought it was the first step in losing him, and Diane told her it was patently absurd. He says, she did? and she says, of course (🍷). She told Carly, with all the stunts she’s pulled, all the plans gone wrong, and the messes Jason has gotten her out of, if she hadn’t lost him by now, she never will.

Brando imagines Novak has gotten to know Sonny pretty well over the years, and Novak says, as well as you can know a respected colleague. Brando says, then well enough to know what was important to Sonny, and Novak says, the late Mr. Corinthos always said, nothing was more important than family. Brando says, then they agree that Sonny would want the two people closest to him to find happiness, and Novak says Brando makes an excellent point. Gladys says, her boy is so loyal; Sonny valued that. Novak says he couldn’t place Brando when he saw him earlier with his lovely lady at the MetroCourt, then it occurred to him – Cyrus Renault’s driver. Is that right? Brando says, that’s right, sir, and Novak says he heard what Cyrus did to Brando and his enchanting mother. An unscrupulous man; no honor. Brando says, then Novak must remember, if it weren’t for Carly, Cyrus would have killed him and his enchanting mother. Gladys says, don’t give Carly all the credit, and Brando says, Jason deserves his share as well. She says, Jason? and he says, Renault was still trying to force Carly to hand Gladys over, but Jason came back at the risk of his own freedom. If Jason hadn’t shot Renault when he did, who knows what would have happened? Novak says, true. Cyrus was a difficult man, as he’s sure Brando knows. By the way, if Brando is looking for work, the Novak association appreciates dedicated men. Gladys is all happy, and says that’s very generous of Vincent, but Brando says, considering they both barely escaped with their lives, he thinks it’s best if he and his dear mother steer clear of any association with his former line of work. He hopes Novak understands.

Ned tells Olivia, he’s just saying, she went from zero to sixty with Austin. She says, for good reason. Austin was willing to take advantage of poor, sweet, innocent Chase to his own ends. Chase was practically dead, he could barely walk, and his heart was broken into a million pieces. Then this nice guy manipulated Chase, a guest in their home, to get Edward’s papers. Ned says, this isn’t about ELQ, but she says, what if this game he’s playing with Leo is just about jockeying for position at ELQ, trying to ingratiate himself? Why take it on faith when this guy did nothing to deserve it? Ned says, they shouldn’t, but they should also leave room for the possibility that he’s on to something. She says, he’s not the doctor Leo is seeing, and Ned says, he’s not, but Leo has a connection with him, and that should count for something. Olivia gives Austin another evil eye.

Michael tells Willow, that’s quite a dress (eh), and she says she doesn’t think anyone will be looking at her. All eyes will be on the bride. He says he’s not too sure about that, because whenever she walks into a room, he finds it impossible to look at anyone else. She says, it’s almost showtime. Shouldn’t he be getting ready? He says, what’s to prepare? He just has to stand next to Jason while Jason does all the work. Besides, after months of having to steal time with her, he doesn’t want to be rushed. She says, if she has her way, they have a lifetime ahead of them. She wants to make sure he’s okay. He says, about? and she says she knows he’s happy for his mom, but he’s got to be thinking about his father right now. He says she really does know him inside out (like this would be a hard call), and she says she’s been paying attention. He says his dad has been on his mind a lot, but right now, he doesn’t feel sad. He feels like his dad is with them.

A fireman tries to get everyone to move, but Nina says she’s not going until she knows Mike is safe. Jax says they will move, but they want to stay close until they know their friend is safe. The fireman says, fine. Follow him.

Inside, Sonny coughs. He seems to be regaining consciousness, and sees the vision of Carly from behind. He says he knows this woman.

Carly thanks Josslyn and Bobbie for standing beside her, and Bobbie says, always. Josslyn says, and forever, when Maxie comes flying in, asking, where’s the bouquet? She trusted Josslyn with it. She better not have lost it. Carly produces it, and says, it’s right here. Maxie says, the bride is a vision, the groom is dashing, and the chapel is full of love. Let’s get this show on the road.

Gladys tells Brando, he blew that, and he says he told her, he’s only pursuing legitimate business ventures now. She says, he calls stripping a legit business venture? and he says he calls it a paying job. She says, there are jobs that pay better, and he tells her, stop. First she tries to get Carly and Jason to hire him, and now Novak? She of all people knows what that world is like, or does he have to remind her of the bullet wound she’s got to show for it? She says she was just trying to set him up for success. He claims he wants to move in with Sasha, and support her and his child, this is his chance. Vincent is clearly interested, and he’s a man with influence. He says he promised Sasha that he’d stay away from Novak’s kind of influence. She says, where is Sasha, by the way? and he says, the OB appointment didn’t go as smoothly as planned. Sasha’s blood pressure was a little elevated, so the doctor decided to put her on bed rest. Gladys says she’s sorry to hear that. Is the baby all right? He says, both the baby and Sasha are fine. It’s just a precautionary measure to protect them both. She says, if there’s anything she can do… and he says, actually there is. If she’s really concerned about Sasha’s blood pressure, stop trying to get him a job in organized crime.

Buscema asks Novak if it’s set, and Novak nods. Woo says, so there’s been no deviation from the plan? and Novak tells them, let’s just say, it will be a wedding to remember.

Diane goes over to Spinelli and says, let’s see if she’s got this straight. The rather heavyset gentleman is Vincent Novak. The other gentleman is Charles Buscema. The very elegant woman is Ms. Woo. He says he believes so, and she says, he believes so? He’s hacked into every device known that holds their secrets. He says he can neither confirm nor deny, and she says, now that they’ve established that, let’s sit back and watch the two people she never thought would, get married. He says he has to agree it surprised him at first, but now it seems inevitable. She tells him, don’t count your chickens. They watch Monica head toward Jason, and Diane says, it looks like the groom’s mother is going to make one last attempt to talk him out of it.

Monica tells Jason, she noticed his lawyer is here. Does he think she brought a prenup for him to sign? She’d sorry. She should never have asked that. Jason says he knows it’s not ever going to be easy for her and Carly, but Carly told him that she showed up to offer them her blessing, and it meant a lot to Carly. Monica says she’d do anything for him, and they seem genuinely happy. He says they are, and she says she noticed he’s also very magnanimous; he invited his brand new cousin. He says, actually, he didn’t, when Epiphany joins them. She says, he cleans up nice.  Carly is the most obstinate, high-maintenance woman she’s ever known, but the two of them together, it works. They deserve happiness, especially him. He was always kind to her son, and always had her back. Jason says she’s always been good to him, and she says, even when she shouldn’t have been. She tells Monica that she’s not referring to anything specific, and Monica says she’s not listening. Jason says he’ll always have Epiphany’s back, and he knows she’ll always be straight with him. She says, always. Good luck. With that bride of his, he’s going to need it. Monica laughs.

Novack approaches Jason, and says he heard there was another dust-up with his nephew Joey. Jason says Joey crashed his bachelor party, and Novak says, that boy is out of control. Which is why he got Joey a one way ticket to Gdansk. He offers his sincere regrets if any offense was taken, and Jason says, it almost sounds like an apology. Novak says, it almost was. These things have a way of working themselves out. Jason says he can be sure of that, and Maxie says, excuse me. If everyone could please be seated, the ceremony is about to begin.

Canon in D major – otherwise known as the theme from Ordinary People – plays, as Josslyn walks in. Cameron smiles at her. Here Comes the Bride starts to play.

Nina is coughing her head off, and Jax tells her that she should see the paramedics. She won’t budge though, and he asks, what the hell happened? Nina grabs a fireman, and says, there’s one person in there. A beam collapsed, and he’s under it. The fireman says they can’t get in, but Jax says, there’s a delivery entrance where he can get to the bar. It was smoky, but clear enough for him to get Nina out. The fireman tells the others, go, and asks if they know how the fire started. Phyllis says, it was set deliberately, and he asks Nina what her friend’s name is. Nina says, his name is… Sonny, but he answers to Mike.

Inside, Sonny sees the back of Carly like he did in the beginning. She walks away, and he says, Nina. You’ve got to help me. Please. Come back.

Carly walks down the aisle.

Sonny says, wait. Who are you? Come back.

Carly gets to the altar, and Spinelli and Diane are all giggly. Novak, Buscema, and Woo exchange looks. Carly gives Josslyn her bouquet, and winks at Michael. Everyone is smiling, and Carly and Jason join hands, eyes twinkling.

The minister says they’re gathered for the wedding of Caroline and Jason, who are long time friends. So rather than bearing witness to a new love, Jason and Carly are affirming the latest chapter in their lives together. They open with a reading from Josslyn, which I later find out is the Apache Wedding Blessing (see below).

Sonny is by the river again, and Mike tells him to get on his feet. Sonny asks who Mike is, and Mike laughs, saying, he thinks Sonny already knows. Sonny says he remembers Mike, and Mike says, of course (🍷) he does. Who could forget a face like this? Sonny says Mike helped him when he washed up. Mike gave Sonny his jacket. Mike says, that’s a good first step. What else does he recall? Sonny says, it seemed like time stopped. He looks at his wrist, but his watch is no longer there. Mike asks if he managed to get it working, and Sonny says, yeah, he did, but he let the watch go. Mike says, well, he let go of a lot. What would Lenny say about leaving loved ones behind? Sonny says, Mike knows Lenny? He doesn’t understand. Mike shows him Lenny’s dog tags, and says, Sonny was in a bad way. He made sure Sonny got somewhere he knew he’d be safe; to a brother in arms. Sonny says he owes Mike and Lenny a lot. They helped Sonny survive and come to Nixon Falls. Sonny says, Lenny was one of the reasons why he settled down there, and Mike says, that’s beautiful, but it’s time to go home now.

A fireman says, they’re doing everything they can to rescue their friend, but the building is likely a total loss. Nina says she’s so sorry; it’s her fault. If she hadn’t lied, the Tan-O wouldn’t have gone up in smoke with Mike inside. Phyllis says, it hurts to lose the Tan-O, but it’s brick-and-mortar. As for the lie, that discussion can wait. The important thing is saving a man they both care about. A police officer asks who owns the property, and Phyllis says she does. He says the captain told him, the fire was started intentionally. Can they tell him who torched the place? Nina says she can tell him exactly who did it. His name is Peter August, and he’s a wanted man. Jax is like, huh?

Phyllis goes with the fireman, and Jax says, Peter did this? Nina says, Peter confronted her about where Maxie is keeping the baby. Then he ran into Sonny, and used that information to blackmail her. He says, she knew Peter was stalking Maxie and searching for her baby, and didn’t tell anyone? How long did she allow Peter to operate unchecked? She says, it wasn’t like that, and he says she could have died; Phyllis too. And all to keep Sonny’s identity a secret? She says, Peter threatened to kidnap James, and he knows as well as she does, as far as Peter is concerned, Maxie’s other children are expendable. Jax says, all the more reason to let go of Sonny, and she says she was going to do that exact thing, but thought she had another out. He says, Valentin? and she says she set Peter up on a false lead; Obrecht was supposed to ambush him. He says she’s kidding. She conspired with Obrecht? She says she didn’t ask for details. She just knew that when Obrecht got done with Peter, he would never hurt anyone again. Jax asks how that worked out, and she says, it worked out great. She’s proud of what she’s accomplished. Thanks for pointing that out. It really helps. Peter alluded to the fact that something happened to her aunt. Does he know anything about that? if she loses one more person she loves because of her actions, she won’t be able forgive herself.

The minister invites the bride and groom to share their vows with one another. Wake me when it’s over. Jason says they know and accept each other. They trust each other, and there’s nobody he’d rather build a life and future with. So with her hand in his, it starts the rest of their lives together.

Sonny tells Mike, Nixon Falls is his home; the Tan-O, his friends, Nina. He’s happy there. He’s got everything he needs. Mike says he knows something about embracing life and love after the slate’s been wiped clean. He found it’s possible to make new memories and find happiness without the baggage from the past. Sonny laughs, and says, this guy gets it. He doesn’t have to justify his decisions to anyone. Mike says, another thing he’s learned is that you can’t run away from the past and who you are. Not really. Sonny says, it’s working for him, but Mike says, you can’t turn away from who you are, and the past will always find you. Sonny asks, what if he doesn’t want to be found? and Mike says, he knows Sonny likes his life in Nixon Falls, and loves being Mike, but there’s only one problem with that. Mike is dead.

Nina tells Jax, obviously, she made a terrible mistake, but she had her reasons, and she’s doing her damnedest to fix them now. He says he hopes it’s not too late, because Peter is still out there, putting pretty much everyone she knows in danger. She says, laying blame doesn’t help anyone, and he says she’s right. Only one thing will help, and that’s getting the word out. Nina goes over to Phyllis, and says, waiting for… Sonny is tortuous. She asks if Phyllis needs anything. Does she want Nina to call a paramedic for her? Phyllis says it’s not herself she’s worried about. She tells Nina to listen to herself. Even now, she can’t decide what she wants to call him. Nina says, when  he comes out, she’s going to tell him the truth. Phyllis says, and if he doesn’t make it? Nina says she can’t think about that, but Phyllis says she has to. If Sonny dies in there, which man will she mourn? (I’d hazard a guess, it won’t be Sonny.) A fireman says they were able to reach the building, and Nina asks if they found him. He says, unfortunately, the hallway was engulfed. There was no way to reach the bar room. Nina asks, what exactly does that mean?

Sonny says he doesn’t know why Mike is pushing him like this. Life is good here. He’s fine. Mike laughs, and says, he can’t be fine, not until he knows his past, and knows who he is, and embrace it. Once he knows the facts, he can move forward in any direction he chooses, but he needs to know. Close his eyes. Sonny just looks at him, and Mike says, do you trust me? Sonny closes his eyes, and remembers when he was first in Port Charles. Omg, he looks like a child. He flashes back to shooting Dante, visiting Morgan’s grave, and catching Julian on the bridge. He sits down on the ground, and asks, what the hell was that? Mike says, his past, his life, and Sonny says, he’s supposed to embrace that guy, whoever he was? So much hurt, so much death because of him. Mike says, he was also generous, and loyal, and at times, even heroic. Sonny says he didn’t see a hero, and Mike crouches down in front of him. He says, despite Sonny’s flaws and sins, he was pretty damn proud of who he was. Sonny says, there’s no way he should have been, but Mike says, yes, he should. He made mistakes… Sonny says, he thinks they’re called crimes; he killed people. Mike says, he did what he did to protect his family, and Sonny says, if his family was targeted because of him, then they’re better off without him. Mike says, it’s not for him to say, and not for Sonny to say either. Those painful memories are just part of his story. Why did he stop looking for the rest of the picture? Sonny says, because he’s seen his bad side, and Mike says, so he thinks the man he was, has nothing to do with the man he thinks he is now? How did Nixon Falls Mike sniff out that con artist? How did he hustle a poker game, or handle a gun with ease? The best parts of that Mike, come from who he really is. The protector, the friend, come from who he really is. Sonny says, Mike told him that he knows something about this, and Mike says, yes. Sonny asks, what would you do? and Mike says, given the choice, he’d always choose to remember. He’d fight for everything he was. There’s a bright light, and Sonny sees Carly’s back, but this time, she turns to him and smiles.

Carly says, Jason, my dearest friend. When they met years ago, playing pool at Jake’s, there was an instant connection. She couldn’t describe it then, and still can’t. What she does know is, this isn’t chance; it’s a choice. She chooses to stand by him for the rest of their lives. Her determination isn’t as quiet as his, but it’s just as fierce. She cherishes their past, and can’t wait to step into their future together.

The fireman says the Tan-O is structurally unsound, and the hallway’s impassible. There’s no way they can reach the bar room. Nina says, their friend is still in there. They have to get him out. He says, he’s sorry. They’re doing their best they can, but there’s no way to reach him. Jax makes a call, and says, come on; pick up.

The minister says Jason and Carly are going to light a remembrance candle; honoring those loved ones who can’t be there in body, but are with them in spirit. Maxie looks at her phone, and sees a call from Jax coming in.

Carly walks to Sonny and Mike, and Mike says, Sonny may have found love in Nixon Falls, but he found it as someone else; as Mike. Sonny asks if Mike is saying his love isn’t real but Mike says, of course (🍷) it’s real. But there’s real love in the world he chose to forget; the love he has for others, and the love others have for him. Is he still willing to turn his back on what’s right in front of him? It’s up to him. Which home does he want to go to? He can die as Mike, or live as the man he really is. (When you put it that way…) Sonny asks if Carly is a part of that life, and Mike says, the best and the brightest.

Jason and Carly light the candle. The minister says, this candle burns in memory of those we’ve loved and lost.

Sonny goes to Carly, and she holds out her hand. He takes it, and I feel sad. Sonny flashes back to telling Carly she’s his wife and the mother of his children. He’ll always love her. She says she loves him too, and they kiss. Back when we were all in diapers.

Sonny opens his eyes, and says, Carly.

Tomorrow, the old speak now or forever hold your peace, Maxie wonders why Jax was calling, and Nina says they have to get Sonny out before it’s too late.

🙏 What She Read…

The prayer Josslyn read at Carly and Jason’s wedding.

💰 In this week’s highlights from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Fredrik got a listing for an incredibly ornate house, complete with custom-made furniture, which was included whether the buyer wanted it or not. I didn’t catch the square footage, but one of the 11 bathrooms was 1200 square feet, so that gives you an idea. It was filled with beautiful touches like handmade fabric wallpaper, and a floral wallpaper that matched the floral headboard and footboard of a bed. It also had a view to die for, but don’t they all in L.A.? Fredrik thought the 6 bedroom house had a suggested retail price of between $26 and $28 million. No surprise, the representative for the seller insisted on 28. Also included was a bright orange kitchen island, and the rep said, everyone loves orange. Um… I’d still take it though. It was built in 1987, but I would have thought it had come from the Downton Abbey days. While Fredrik was afraid he’d lose a deal over the flowered bed or too much marble, he hoped the caché would offset the orange. The only catch was, the rep wanted him to co-list it with JoshA. Fredrik sucked it up and made the call, and Josh agreed. Because of the pandemic, the usual open houses and events were out of the question, so Josh and Fredrik created a YouTube video, showcasing not just the house, but their different styles. To get even more eyes on the property, they were going to have viewers vote for who they liked best. That ought to be good. I can’t see either one of them accepting being second best.

In the meantime, since Tracy’s buyer had backed out because he felt he was too tall for the house, she had to explain that one to the seller. The seller, who was weird to begin with, not wanting anyone inside the house, got weirder, wanting a buyer with no contingencies. I was fuzzy on exactly what contingencies were in regard to real estate, so I saved you the trouble of googling. See below. Tracy ended up getting the deal done with one of the buyers with a back-up offer. JoshF got a listing for a Rat Pack throwback house, built in 1956. While the house was around 2400 square feet, and only 2 bedrooms, the lot was nearly 18,000 square feet (it’s the land, Katie Scarlett), and the view included the Hollywood sign. I loved the house, but I’m enamored of the 50s/60s/70s real estate. The owner loved the house too, but was recently divorced, and wasn’t keen on living there alone. It was kind of out of the way. At first, she was open to offers from developers, but then decided she was willing to wait for the right buyer; someone who appreciated the vibe. If she could take about $3,499,995 off the price tag, I’m her buyer.

Next time, Fredrik meets Dolph Lundgren.

🏡 What They Are…

Everything you wanted to know about real estate contingencies, but were afraid to ask. Or not.

👮🏾‍♀️ The Commissioner Has Left the Building…

It took me a while to get used to new Jordan, and then she became just Jordan. I got to like her, and now I’m back to square one.

👠 Intentional Slip…

Apparently, a tease about Ava got the interest that was hoped for.

🚗 Accidents Run In the Family…

This was pretty amusing. They left out the part where an extra roll was added to Erika’s son’s car though.

🌜 Goodnight, My Someones…

We inch toward another week’s end, and ponder, just how many times did Erika’s son’s car roll? I don’t have all the answers, but I do have soap, tea, and maybe some answers for you tomorrow. Until then, stay safe, stay paying your fair share, and stay knowing you can’t turn away from who you are. The past will always find you.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Jax goes to the MetroCourt, and Carly says she’s not in the mood, but he says she came to apologize. She says, go on, and he says he’s sorry he made Josslyn’s special dinner awkward. She says she hopes he plans on apologizing to Josslyn, and he says, of course (🍷) he does. He asks if they can start over. Mr. Buscema comes in, and Carly welcomes him to the MetroCourt, saying, it’s an honor. He says it’s an honor to be her guest. He received her save-the-date, hand-delivered no less. She says she wanted to make sure he got it, and he says, consider this his RSVP. He wouldn’t miss it for the world. He’s sure all of her late husband’s business associates won’t either. Jason comes by, and says, excuse them, steering Buscema to the bar. Jax tells Carly, if that guy is any indication of the guest list, their daughter isn’t getting within a mile of the wedding.

Harmony tells Alexis that she has two visitors. Spencer and Esme are there, and Alexis says, no way, Spencer! He’s all grown up. He says, that depends on who you ask, and wonders if there are rules against hugging loved ones. She says, since when did he care about rules? and they hug. Alexis says, Nikolas said he was back, but didn’t say anything about him visiting. He says, his father hasn’t been keeping up with what he’s been doing, and he intends to keep it that way.

Ava puts sunflowers on Kiki’s grave, and says, her sweet girl. She misses Kiki so much. Ever since the stalker left Kiki’s ID, Kiki is all she can think about. A cruel reminder of how she couldn’t protect Kiki, and pointed her in Ryan’s direction. Then Ryan took Kiki’s life in a sick desire to please her. She’ll always regret… She doesn’t know where to begin. She has so many regrets. Nikolas appears, and says, so does he.

At the MetroCourt, Austin gives Scotty the paper from Edward’s office, and says, that ought to do the trick. Maxie runs in, looking around for something, and Austin asks if he can help. She says she thought she left something there, but it seems to be gone. He says they probably have a lost and found, and she says she’ll check there. He says, the last time he saw her, she was leaving town. Did it help? She says she’s afraid not. The thing with some problems is, no matter where you go, they follow you.

Obrecht asks Nina what the problem is, and Nina says, Peter is alive. Obrecht asks if she’s certain, and Nina says he’s there in Nixon Falls.

Outside the Tan-O, Sonny says Peter isn’t just a business associate of Nina’s, and Peter says he’d like to think they’re friends. Sonny asks why he gets the feeling Nina doesn’t like Peter much. Peter says Sonny doesn’t mince words, and Sonny says he calls it the way he sees it. And the way he sees it, Peter makes Nina very uncomfortable. He thinks it’s time for Peter to get out of town.

Obrecht tells Nina, that schwein. She knew they hadn’t seen the last of him. She asks if he’s made contact, and Nina says, unfortunately, he’s as malignant as ever. Obrecht says, since Nina is freely speaking, he must not be with her, and Nina says, he’s outside, so she has to make it fast. Obrecht says, if Nina is jeopardy, call for help, but Nina says she’s not. He made threats, but she’s not in immediate danger. Not yet. Obrecht says it’s good Nina hasn’t called the authorities. The jailhouse is too good for Peter. She has much better plans for him.

Peter admits he and Nina aren’t exactly friends. They’re professional rivals, and what Sonny thinks is tension, is nothing more than healthy competition. Sonny asks if Peter thinks he’s a good liar. Peter’s got a better shot at playing the lottery than playing him. Phyllis returns, and asks if that’s how Sonny treats Nina’s guest.

Austin says he’s happy to see Maxie back, and she thanks him, calling him Dr. Gatlin-Holt. He says he loves being a doctor, but after everything they’ve been through, she should call him Austin. She says, of course (🍷). She has a lot on her mind. He says, of course (🍷), and she says, goodbye, Dr… Austin. She leaves, and Scotty says, well, well. Austin is making himself at home. Austin says, it’s just a routine follow-up. Back to business. Scotty says. this document is gold. It’s Austin’s ticket to ride.

Carly tells Jax, that guy is a colleague, but Jax says, everything about that guy screams gangster. She says, go to hell, and he says, his name is Buscema? Doesn’t she think he knows who the Five Families Ragu alla Bolognese are? He learned everything about them when Sonny became Josslyn’s stepfather, and just gave himself a refresher course when that Joey Novak guy approached her. Carly says Josslyn is not just going to be at the wedding, she’s going to be the maid of honor. Josslyn is an adult, and makes her own decisions. He says, they should be informed decisions. Won’t Josslyn be heartbroken when she finds out she’ll be standing up for a sham marriage?

Buscema thanks Jason for meeting him, and says he’ll be brief. Like Jason, he’s concerned about the Novak organization’s lack of control over Joey. Joey approaching Carly’s daughter was unacceptable, and he intends to make his feelings known. Jason says, like Buscema, like any of them, he won’t tolerate his family being threatened. Especially now that his and Carly’s family are about to become one. Buscema says he respects that, and they shake hands.

Ava asks how Nikolas found her… Wait, don’t tell her. He asked her bodyguard. He tells her not to blame the bodyguard; it’s his fault. She says she should have hired her own. She offered the job to Shawn, but he’s busy tracking down whoever framed him. Nikolas knows it’s dangerous for them to be seen together. He says he figured they wouldn’t have much of an audience there, and she says, they had an audience at the gallery, but he’s here now. Say what he came to say. He says he feels bad, intruding on her there, and asks what’s in her hand. She shows him Kiki’s ID, and says, a gift their stalker left after they torched her car. He says he’s so sorry. He convinced himself that Spencer was the stalker, and  he was wrong, very wrong. She says, which leaves them with one very alarming fact. The danger is real.

Spencer introduces Esme as his girlfriend, and Alexis says he brought his girlfriend to prison; how lovely. Esme says the pleasure is all hers. Spencer’s been positively enthused about Alexis. Alexis says he’s been tight-lipped about Esme, and Esme asks Spencer, why is that? but Spencer is busy staring at Ryan. He says, so it’s true. Ryan Chamberlain is here. Alexis says, every single day, and Spencer says, someone should make sure that freak of nature never draws another free breath.

On his way out, Buscema says, it’s good to see you, Mrs. Corinthos, or shall I say, the future Mrs. Morgan? He’s looking forward to her nuptials. She says they’re happy to have him, and he tells her, until then, good health, and a long life. She says, same to him, and Buscema leaves. Jax asks what the deal is, and Carly says she doesn’t know how many times she has to tell him, she and Jason really do love each other. It’s sad that he can’t accept that. He says every move she’s made since Sonny died was to shore up Sonny’s illegal business. This sprint to the altar is nothing more than theater, with Josslyn as an unwitting player. She tells him not to expect an invitation, and don’t crash the wedding. He asks if she’s really comfortable putting their daughter on display in front of those dangerous people; her business associates. She tells him that he needs to leave, and he says she needs to care enough about her kids not to paint bullseyes on their backs. But hey, if Josslyn gets killed, she’ll still have Sonny’s blood money to keep her warm. He leaves, and Carly asks if Jason heard that. Jason says, he heard enough, and she says she has to get back to work. He says, not like this, and she says she needs a drink, but she’s on the job. Although, she’s the boss. She can do what she wants. She turns, but he grabs her hand, and asks her to come with him.

Scotty says, the correspondence shows Edward intended to include Austin’s father in inheriting ELQ voting shares. He’ll go to the courthouse tomorrow, and see if he can get the hearing moved up. Austin wonders how long it will take to hear back, and Scotty says, the wheels of justice turn very, very, very slowly, so don’t panic while he’s our of  town. Austin asks where Scotty is going, and Scotty says, to a tropical, romantic island where he’ll be doing all kinds of fun stuff you do on an island. When he gets back, they’ll get Austin his ELQ shares. Can Austin get this drink? He’s going to be rolling in dough soon. Scotty leaves, sticking Austin with the tab.

Ava tells Nikolas, Doc gave her the broad strokes. Has he spoken to Spencer? He says his son refuses to have anything to do with him. Spencer is ignoring his calls, texts, and emails. He even messaged Spencer on social media, but nothing. She wonders if Laura can’t run interference, but he says his mother made it clear she’s sick of his antics too. Ava says she’s so sorry, and he says she told him not to accuse Spencer unless he was absolutely sure. And he knows she sent his mother and Doc to stop him. She says she didn’t know what else to do, and he says she did what she could. He just wishes he’d listened. She says she wishes she’d been wrong. Things would be so much better for everybody if Spencer had been their stalker.

Harmony takes Ryan outside, and Spencer says, pretty sweet gig for a serial killer; minimum security, full-time attendants. How is that legal? Alexis says, it’s absurd. When she inquired about it, she was told to butt out, and if she didn’t like it, there was a cement wall and a shiv waiting for her at Pentenville. Esme says Spencer told her that he was Doc’s brother, but it didn’t quite prepare her, and Spencer says he’s glad Ryan is a vegetable now. Alexis says, his condition is called locked-in syndrome, and Esme says, he can’t move or speak, but his mind is as sharp as ever. She saw a movie based on a locked-in guy’s memoir, which he’d written by communicating letters one by one. Spencer says, it sounds like hell. Good. Alexis says, have a seat. She doesn’t want to spend their visit talking about Ryan. He asks how she is, and she says, pretty much as he sees her; this is as good as it gets. She asks, what’s going on with his father? She figured if Spencer could forgive Nikolas for faking his death, he could forgive anything. Spencer says, she’d be mistaken, and Alexis says, clearly, Nikolas didn’t heed her advice. He accused Spencer of staking Ava, didn’t he?

Maxie gets her notebook from behind the bar, and thanks the employee. Some papers fall out, and Jax helps her pick them up. He says he sees she’s back to planning weddings, and she say she’s planning Carly and Jason’s. Isn’t it great that they’re getting married?

Phyllis tells Peter to please forgive her friend Mike. He’s the most loyal and protective guy he’ll ever meet. Which means, sometimes, courtesy takes a backseat. Peter laughs, and says, no apology necessary. He’s just glad to know Nina has such good friends there in Nixon Falls. Knowing Nina, he’s sure she’d want to make sure all of them are protected in return.

Nina tells Obrecht that Peter wants her to use her connection to Valentin to help him find Louise. If she doesn’t, he said he’ll take James. Obrecht says Peter is targeting her grandson? and Nina says, his exact words were, if she doesn’t help him, James would be more than an adequate replacement. Obrecht says Nina knows there’s only one way to deal with him, and Nina says she does. If Obrecht can’t for any reason, she’ll do it herself. Obrecht says she can most definitely manage it. She has to go, but whatever happens, do not panic. Keep her head on straight. Nina hangs up, and Peter walks in. He asks, who was that?

Spencer says he bets Alexis’s clients were never able to lie to her, and she says, rarely; stop deflecting. She and his father know about the letter Ryan wrote him. He says, which he returned, and she says, unopened. Esme says she saw a coffee machine in the lobby (prisons have a lobby?) and asks if they want anything. They say, no thanks, and Esme leaves. Alexis says, lovely girl; intuitive. Spencer says, lovely and intuitive, just like her. She says clearly, he’s picked up his father’s tactic for evading uncomfortable conversation, but Spencer says, he’s nothing like his father.

Nikolas says, if Spencer had been the stalker, they could have gotten him help, and Avery would be home. Instead, they’re more alienated than ever. Now, here they are. Ava says, together. It’s open provocation to the stalker. He says, the irony isn’t lost on him that they’re going against the express wishes of the stalker, but he already lost his son and his mother. He can’t lose her too

Outside, Harmony asks if Ryan would like to continue with Moby Dick, or read Frankenstein again. He blinks, and she says, it’s interesting that he’s so fascinated in a book about a monster. Esme comes out, and she says she was hoping Harmony could help. She’s there visiting her boyfriend’s aunt, and she was telling Esme that Ryan has locked-in syndrome. She’s never heard of it before. Harmony says, put simply, he’s lost voluntary control of all his muscles except the eyes, but his cognitive functions are unaffected. He’s fully alert and aware of his environment. Esme asks if she can speak to him, and Harmony asks Ryan if it’s okay. He blinks, and she tells Esme, he said go ahead. Esme says, hello, and Ryan blinks. She asks what he said, and Harmony tells her, hi there.

Scotty tells Obrecht, good evening my waffle strudel. Is she excited to go to St. Lucia and soak up the sun? She says, perhaps now is not the right time for this venture, and he asks, why not? She was all about going to the medical conference to find out about Britt. What’s going on? What changed her mind?

Phyllis says she wondered why Sonny was hustling her out. It’s a good thing she came back for her glasses. Sonny says, the guy is creepy; he doesn’t deserve courtesy, but she says, if he’s in her bar, he does. Sonny says that’s why he took Peter outside. She asks, what’s with him? He always takes an immediate dislike to anyone who gets close to Nina. He says, it’s been two people; Peter and Elijah. She says maybe he should question why he’s suspicious of anyone from Nina’s former life.

Peter asks if Nina was talking to Valentin, but she says, no; it was just Crimson business. If he’d just leave, she could calm down, call Valentin, and get what he needs. Peter says if she double-crosses him before he leaves to start a new life with James, he’ll not only wreck this little fantasy she’s got going in the middle of nowheresville, he’ll make sure she can never show her face in Port Charles again.

Jason brings Carly to the pool (🍷), and she asks, what the hell is going on? Where are her servers? He says he arranged for a private party, and she says, when? He says, when he saw Jax unloading on her. It was this, or punch him in the face. He stopped himself. Josslyn doesn’t deserve to be in the middle of this. Jax doesn’t get why they’re getting married, and the way he’s acting, Jason is starting to think Jax doesn’t know anything about Carly. She says, maybe not, but Jason does.

Maxie sits with Jax at the bar, and she asks if he’s feeling weird about Carly getting married, especially since he’s single. He says, Carly is important to him. They share a child together, and he doesn’t want to see anything bad happen to her, so… That’s not what she asked him. She asked if he felt weird about Carly getting married, and the answer is, no. She says, forgive the observation, but he seems less than thrilled. He asks how Nina is doing, and Maxie says, she seems happy. Jax says, she seems happy to have a relationship with Wiley again, and he hopes they can be friends when she comes back. Maxie says she didn’t get the impression that Nixon Falls was a detour for Nina. She got the feeling Nina was putting down roots.

Peter asks how Nina will feel, not holding her precious grandson ever again. When Michael and Carly find out what she’s been keeping from them. When Mike discovers this grandson she’s so afraid of losing, is also his. She says he’s made his point, and he says he hasn’t even gotten started with Jax yet. Her knight in shining armor. How’s he going to feel when he finds out she’s been playing footsy with Carly’s husband, a man he loathes?.

Obrecht tells Scotty, it’s imperative that she find out about the latest research on Huntington’s, but there’s no need for Scotty to sit through boring presentations. He says he’s been to his fair share of legal conferences, and one he’s learned is, once you’re signed in, your colleagues don’t know whether you’re sipping martinis, laying on the beach, or elsewhere. She says he’s a genius, and he says he’s heard rumors of that. She says, they shall discuss how much, or how little she should pack, but she has to make a quick phone call.

Ava says Nikolas hasn’t lost her; he has her heart. If anything their stalker’s attempt to come between them backfired magnificently, hasn’t it? It just made them love each other more. He says, so there is a silver lining; who knew? She says, but they are under siege. Until they find out who’s doing this… He says, they will find out, and she says she hopes so. The threats are escalating. Nobody has been hurt, but how long before that happens? She can’t live like that. Can he? He says, no, but he can’t live without her either. She says, then they’re at an impasse. Their stalker doesn’t want them together, but they can’t seem to stay apart. So it will be her job to keep them apart. He asks, how far apart? and she says, oceans apart.

Alexis says Nikolas was just trying to teach Spencer a lesson, and Spencer says, by pretending to stab him? Alexis says she told Nikolas it was a bad idea, but he did anyway. She’s sorry if it hurt Spencer, but she’s also sorry for his father. He asks how she can possibly be sorry for his father, and she says, because he was raised in the middle of a tug-of-war for power between Helena and Stephan. Can he imagine how hard it is to grow up in that environment and have a moral compass; to know right from wrong? Does Spencer have any idea how lucky he is?

Esme says it’s nice to speak to Ryan. It’s incredible. Does he communicate through Harmony? Harmony wonders why she’s asking, and Esme says she’s starting classes at PCU; she’s going to medical school. She imagines in working with patients who have that diagnosis, there’s never a dull moment. Harmony says, sure enough, and Esme says she has an idea. Maybe she could volunteer there. Ryan blinks like crazy, and she asks what he’s saying. Harmony tells her, he’s saying, go, go, go, over and over.

Jax says he thought all Nina needed was a reason to come home, and Maxie says, now she has a reason to stay. He says, Phyllis? and she says she should get back to wedding planning. He says, no, come on. What’s the real reason Nina is staying in Nixon Falls? She says, it’s not a what; it’s a who. Nina has found someone special, and Maxie is under the strong impression it’s getting serious.

Peter says, Nina has been keeping Sonny’s identity a secret to get back at Carly, and she asks if he doesn’t think she knows what she’s done, what she has to lose. He says, but it’s so much fun to remind her, and she says, why don’t you just get out, you psycho? So she can get him a lead on Louise. Sonny and Phyllis come back in, and Sonny asks if Nina is okay. She says she’s fine. She’s going to walk Peter out. Phyllis says it was nice meeting him, and she hopes Peter drops by again. He says she can count on it, and he and Nina leave. Sonny says, see what he means? and Phyllis says, there was definitely some tension. He says, some tension? and she says, Nina will either explain or she won’t. Until she does, they have to respect her privacy. If Nina doesn’t like Peter hanging around, she’ll tell him where to go.

Outside, Peter says Nina has twenty-four hours, before the people she loves suffer the consequences of her stalling.  Are they clear? She says, yes, and he says, good, and leaves. Nina calls Obrecht, who says she can tell by Nina’s voice things have gotten worse, and Nina tells her, she could say that. Obrecht says she knows under normal circumstances, Nina would rely on lawful means to end Peter’s reign of terror, but since Peter has threatened James, that’s not an option, right? Nina says Obrecht read her mind.

Esme says, Ryan can’t want her gone already. Is Harmony sure that’s what he’s saying? Harmony says, sometimes when they’re tired, people with locked-in syndrome can suffer eyelid spasms, and Esme says, that must be it; he’s just tired. Ryan glares at her, and she tells him, get some rest. She thanks Harmony for her time, and says she didn’t catch her name. Harmony introduces herself, and Esme says, she’s Esme. Harmony says she was going to guess that. She looks like an Esme. Esme says she knows, right? She hopes to come back and visit both of them.

Ava says she needs to get as far away from Port Charles as possible, and Nikolas says maybe they can figure out an alternative. She says, there’s no alternative that includes the two of them together. She’s hoping to get far enough off the grid that the stalker loses interest. He suggests they grab Avery and go, but she says it would defeat the purpose. There is something he can do for her though. He says, anything, and she says, make peace with Spencer. He says he wants to, and he’s trying, but Spencer and his girlfriend have moved in with his mother. She says, girlfriend? and he says, Spencer had a secret, just not what he suspected. She says, poor Trina.

Spencer asks Alexis, how is he lucky? Look at everything that’s been done to him. He has every right to be angry. Alexis says, furious, livid; yes, he does. But isn’t the real reason he’s angry, because Nikolas didn’t trust him and accused him of stalking Ava? She knows things will be difficult to fix between him and his father, but it’s worth it. Don’t be so focused on punishing his father that he ends up punishing himself. Esme comes back and stares at them.

Carly says, the pool (🍷) looks beautiful, and Jason says, they did a good job. She says, it’s a long way from Jake’s, and he says, Jake’s was okay too. She says, Jake’s was paradise, and he says he woudn’t go that far. She says, that’s because to him, it was a place to shoot pool and drink beer. For her, she spent all day, every day, running, lying, and manipulating; chasing she doesn’t know what. Some idea of what she thought would make her happy, but what really made her happy was when she was with him.

Obrecht tells Nina, it would be a blessing to wipe Peter off the map, and Nina asks what she needs to do. Obrecht says, tell him that Anna and Valentin got a lead in St. Lucia. Nina asks, what’s there? and Obrecht says, a medical conference… and her alibi. Nina says, Peter is as good as there, and Obrecht tells her, take a breath, drink some champagne, and give herself a hug. Soon, Peter will never bother anyone ever again.

Jax asks Maxie who Nina’s mystery man is, and Maxie says she doesn’t have a lot of details, but she’ll say this. Lately, Port Charles has given Nina nothing but pain. She thinks Nina wants to keep her life in Nixon Falls separate from her life there, including the people in it. She only told him because she thought he should know that Nina moved on. Maybe he should too.

Esme tells Spencer and Alexis that she’s sorry to interrupt, but from the looks of the guard, time’s up. Alexis says it was nice meeting Esme. She’s sorry they didn’t get more time to chat. Come and visit her in prison any time. Spencer too, and remember what she said. They hug, and Harmony wheels Ryan back in. Esme looks at him, and gives him a little wave. She and Spencer leave, and Harmony tells Alexis, her nephew’s girlfriend, Esme, she’s trouble. Alexis says, she thinks so? and Harmony says she’s had a lot of experience with wayward girls. Some are victims, some are not. If Alexis’s nephew knows what’s good for him, he’ll steer clear of that one.

Nikolas asks if Ava knows where she’s going, and she says there are a couple of artists she’s been trying to woo in Europe. That will take a few weeks. After that, who knows? He says, maybe she’ll come back, but she says, only if the stalker is caught, but at this rate… She’ll miss him. He says all he wants to do is talk her into staying, and she says, all she wants to do is let him. He says, unfortunately, he had one more lesson to learn. He’s done trying to control people he loves. She says, it’s a lousy time for him to start building character, and he says he hopes she comes back. She promises to love him wherever she is.

Carly says, back then, when she walked into Jake’s and Jason was there, he always gave her a good night. He says, him too, and she says she always thought she annoyed him. He says, she did… sometimes… most of the time, but he always liked seeing her. She says, know what she liked? and he says, oh no. She says, dancing. He brought her here to make her feel better, and dancing would make her feel better. They put down their beer bottles, and he says, will she dance with him? They dance, and she smiles. They come close to kissing, and I cringe. She suddenly pulls away, and says she has to get back to work. Thanks for the beer. He says, anytime, and she leaves, while he ponders.

Phyllis tells Sonny, whatever is going on with Nina and Peter, it’s definitely not romantic. He says, that’s not what bothers him about the guy, and she asks, what is it? He says, when he and Peter first met yesterday, he got the feeling Peter knows who he is.

On Monday, Anna tells Obrecht that she’s not giving up until she finds Peter dead or alive, Carly says someone is going to find out why Jason has the reputation he does, and Sonny asks if Peter knows who he is.

Million Dollar Listing New York

KJ told husband Stefano that she was ready to sit at the table with the big boys – i.e. start her own team. Kemba called Tyler with an offer on Whitney’s 77th Street apartment. The buyers loved Whitney’s style, and wanted a lot of things included. She said, Whitney wasn’t married to the furniture, right? but Tyler said she was married to everything. If she could peel the paint off the walls and take it to Florida, she would. Fredrik was in L.A., but called team member Charlë in NYC, who said she’d done a deal with KJ at the Baccarat. Woman to woman, they did pretty good.

Ryan went to a listing appointment in downtown Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Point building, and met with developer Ari. In Ryan’s interview, he said, not in his wildest dreams did he think one of the biggest developers would call his new company. They’d completely changed the skyline in NYC, everywhere. If he got this, it would be a complete game changer; everyone would call. It was the tallest building in Brooklyn, with 483 apartments, and a 25 year tax abatement. That means no property taxes, folks. You know the drill; luxury appliances, custom cabinetry, amazing fixtures, some of them copper. Ryan didn’t know you could get views like that outside of Manhattan. The building had from studios to 3 bedrooms, and the top floor had extra high ceiling, giving the feeling of a penthouse. The three bedrooms ranged from $2.5 to $3.5 million, and the 2 bedrooms ranged from $1.8 to $2.5 million. The amenities included a state of the art fitness center, with a 35’ rock climbing wall, and a 65’ salt water pool. Ryan told Ari, if he lived there, he’d retire, since he’d have no reason to leave. Yep, me too. In his interview, Ryan said he was no longer working for a firm; he was the firm. Everything was on his shoulders, so he had to get this listing, which would be over $400 million in value. Ari wanted to know what Serhant was all about, and what Ryan’s competitive advantage was. Ryan told Ari that Serhant was a real estate firm that sold real estate, and I wondered where all his Rico Suave went. In Ryan’s interview, he said he was nervous, and his palms were sweating. Get it together. He admitted to Ari that his new company hadn’t signed any new buildings yet, and Ari said they were aware. Like this guy wouldn’t have checked Ryan out ahead of time. Ryan said they were in the middle of negotiations, but they’d just started. The building would get his personal attention, since it would be his baby. He’d decided he wasn’t going to change even though it was his company. He’d still show, because he loved it; he’d still sell, because it was what he was best at; and he’d still focus on brands, because that was how he’d built his career. Ari said they were eager to make a decision, and Ryan said, let’s go. Ari said they would take a leap of faith, and in his interview, Ryan said he was so effing freaked out. The potential sales were $460 million.

KJ met developer Alex at 175 w 95th Street. Alex’s family had bought the remaining rental units in a condo from the previous developer. As the rent stabilized tenants left, they renovated the apartments, getting them ready for buyers. At the beginning of the pandemic, she’d been tasked with selling nine of their units. In her interview, she explained that developers were sitting on finished units, and it was costing them a ton in carrying costs. They still had five units to sell, and we flashed back to KJ advising Alex to lower the price to $1.495 million. I know, I write this like it’s some every day cost, but when in NYC… She’d gotten an offer of $1.425 for a mid-floor apartment, all cash, and the buyer would pay the closing costs. Alex said, a year ago, the apartments were $1.6 million, and KJ told him for the billionth time that the market was competitive right now, and everyone was looking for an opportunity (aka, lowballing). Alex said he appreciated her honesty, and decided to roll with the deal. In KJ’s interview, she said, now she had to move on to the next one on a lower floor. She told him that she’d gotten an offer of $1.35 million for that one, and Alex was like, oh my God, but understood the market is what it is, and agreed on that one too. KJ said she had one more for the highest floor, starting at $1.35 (she should have gotten the defibrillator ready for Alex), but she had a good feeling. Alex pointed out the beautiful view, and she said the buyers were investors from Hong Kong, and had all cash; it was an attractive offer. They wanted to take it sight unseen, at least not in person, and she thought she could get them to come up to the 1.4’s. Alex said he needed $1.5 million to make the deal work, and KJ called Karishma. Karishma said she’d spoken to the clients, and they were willing to come up to $1.4 million, but KJ said she needed something closer to $1.5 million. The developer was getting more for apartments on the lower floors, and the clients would be getting a good deal. In her interview, KJ said that it was a smart move to sell the property at a lower price. Rip the bandaid off and move on. Karishma called back, and KJ told Alex, they countered at $1.435 million, but Alex was concerned if they accepted the lower pricing on the higher floors, they’d be setting a precedent. She told him that there was a lot of competition and a lot of inventory. Eventually, the market would change, but it was time to move on, and focus on the apartments coming up. She thought it was the best offer they could get, and a one-off because it was during covid. It was time to get it off the books, call it a day, and move on. Alex agreed, as long as KJ would get him better pricing next time. Sold at $1.435 million, KJ’s commission being $126K.

Ryan did a video shoot at Brooklyn Point from the roof, telling his viewers that it was the highest infinity pool in the Western Hemisphere. Steve invited the brokers to an open house at Hudson Yards.

Fredrik was in L.A., and spoke to developer Cliff, owner of the $15 million penthouse Fredrik was now living in. We flashed back to Cliff saying he’d extend the listing with Fredrik if he agreed to live there, and promote it on his social media. In Fredrik’s interview, he said, the strategy was a little awkward – we flashed back to a broker telling him that he needed to make his bed – but there had been interest. However, the feedback had also been unanimous – the price was too high. You couldn’t argue with the market, and the price reduction had worked. There was a huge amount of interest, and he’d done a lot of showings. He called Cliff, and said he’d gotten an offer of $9.995 million, full asking price. Fredrik thanked Cliff for the opportunity, and said social media was his best selling tool. Cliff thought social media was a colossal waste of time, but Fredrik asked if $10 million was a waste of time. As we know from General Hospital, two things can be true. After Fredrik hung up with Cliff, broker Glenn called. His clients had made an offer of $9.8 million, but Fredrik had told him to come up. So, sorry not sorry. Glenn whined that the apartment had been on the market for a long time, but Fredrik said he’d told Glenn to move fast. Glenn was pissed off, and Fredrik told him the only way was to come in over the asking price substantially. They had another deal. It would have to be cash and quick, with the buyer paying closing costs. No playing around. Glenn said his buyers told him to go to $10.7, all cash, and paying the closing costs, but he needed to know he had the deal. They wanted it done in three days. Fredrik told Glenn to promise he wouldn’t back out, and he’d call him right back. Fredrik left the car by the side of the road – a convertible, open to any and all thieves – jumped out, and ran across the street where he jumped around in a fountain. He called Cliff with the offer, and in his interview, Fredrik said it felt good to close a deal at a pre-covid price. New York is waking up and roaring. She is back. He was returning soon, and going to do a victory lap when he got there. He got back in the car, and as he continued to drive, yelled, I love New York… and L.A.! I love both coasts!

Steve went to the Sky Rink, meeting his hockey buddy Adam to play ice hockey. In his interview, Steve said it brought him back to childhood. It was fun and he played once or twice a week. It was good for him both physically, and psychologically, and was like real estate; super competitive, sometimes you got in fights, and there was a winner and a loser. He liked to win. They were also meeting Preston, the broker who had a possible renter for Steve’s client, and also an old hockey buddy. We flashed back to Steve showing the rental, and in Steve’s interview, he said he’d told Preston to bring him the offer on the ice. Steve had played competitively when he was younger, and knew his way around an ice rink, but it was only a hobby. Preston said the six month lease was a challenge. His clients didn’t want a one-year term. Steve said furnished properties of that caliber were few and far between. Right now, he had the only one. The owner had to turn the apartment over, painting and taking care of repairs, in between renters. A shorter term meant more wear and tear. In Steve’s interview, he said he thought this might actually be beneficial. In six months, the market would be different, and his client could raise the price. He’d bought it as an investment property. Steve called his client, telling him it wasn’t ideal, but the offer was 6 months at $60K a month. Right now, rentals were up because of the uncertainty of the market. People wanted to see what was going to happen. Steve saw an opportunity, and suggested they offer full ask for six months, then get a long term offer after the market was better. Steve came back to Preston with an offer of $60K a month if it was one-year, or the full price of $69.5K a month for six months. Steve continued to play hockey while Preston made the call, and came back with 6 months at the full ask, and in his interview, Steve said, six months from now, he’d get to rent it again. It was a win-win for him.

Tyler has a dog named Peggy, which I find worth mentioning, since I think it’s amusing when pets have human names. In his interview, Tyler said, before he could turn Whitney’s apartment back into a whitebox, buyers came along who said it was their exact taste, and loved everything. They made a $4.1 million offer, but wanted some of the furniture and curtains included. In Tyler’s interview, he said, it wasn’t uncommon, but it was far from his favorite thing to do. Buyers didn’t consider what the seller had paid for it, or the sentimental value. He just had to try and make it work. He told Whitney that she should be flattered, and she said she was, but it didn’t sway her. We flashed back to Whitney saying she was taking the curtains, and I flashed back to the previous owner of my house wanting to keep her curtains when we’d already agreed they came with the house. It has 21 windows. I held firm. And seriously, what was she going to do with them in senior living? Whitney told Tyler, it was like, my furniture is coming with me; thanks for coming. He asked if she didn’t want her legacy to live on. Plus, she didn’t need nursery furniture. She said she’d poured her heart and soul into her son’s room, and wasn’t giving his crib to a stranger. He managed to wheedle most of the furniture the buyers wanted, minus the crib, and made a deal at $4.1 million. He told Whitney, well done-ish. He would take an ish. His commission? $123K.

In her interview, KJ said, after some hard conversations about the future – we flashed back to her talking to Ryan and Fredrik – she decided it was time for her to start her own team. Elliman had the best infrastructure, and the top producing agents in the city. She gathered her new team – Benjamin, Karishma, and Jill – and told them that it wasn’t just like she was moving to a different firm, she was creating a team. Jill was her COO, and would be keeping them on brand and helping grow the business, but they had room for another agent or two, so keep their eyes open. In her interview, she said she’d hand-selected people who were in line with her values and also had incredible experience.  Getting teary, she said she’d spent years thinking that others did it better. If you believed in yourself, you could do it, but it took time. It didn’t happen overnight, but one day you woke up and said, holy sh*t; it’s real. She felt a ton of pressure, an told her team they’d be working a lot.

Steve said, the $29.5 million penthouse at Hudson Yards was the accumulation of years of hard work. It was a game changer. Since he could only have a limited amount of people at an event, he’d invited the top brokers for an open house. In Ryan’s interview, he reminded us that he was the reason Steve got the listing; he’d brought Steve a buyer for the other apartment. We flashed back to that, and Ryan said, you’re welcome. To refresh your memory, the penthouse was 5211 square feet, 4 bedrooms, and 5.5 baths, two floors, 26’ ceilings, and 270* unobstructed views. In his interview, Ryan said he’d seen a lot of apartments, and this one screamed penthouse. It was a piece of art, and whoever bought it would crush it. $30 million today will be $60 million tomorrow. Watch. KJ and Tyler joined them, and in Tyler’s interview, he said he was excited to be invited, but even more excited to see the penthouse. It was everything. This was the dream. He thought Steve looked good in his tux. He’d brought prom to the penthouse.  Steve gave them the tour, and said they were the first to see it.

Steve broke open the champagne, and in KJ’s interview, she said, in the future, she saw expansion of the business. She saw herself getting larger deals and building a well oiled machine that would run until she died. She’d be doing this to the grave. In Tyler’s interview, he said he’d busted his ass. He was proud of himself and his team. They’d sold more than they ever had before. He didn’t just want to build a team in the city. He was also starting one in the Hamptons. Even though there had been challenges, he was most excited about their growth. Fredrik arrived, wearing a bright yellow jacket, and in his interview, he said, since he moved to L.A., he’d been dressing brighter. He was the sunshine of New York, and when Freddy came back, it brightened everything. He’d moved past the Ryan thing. He didn’t need that kind of negativity in his life, and he was closing so many deals, chose to focus on that. In Ryan’s interview, he said Fredrik had been arguing with him for nine years. He was over it. They’d never be best friends, and never see eye to eye on everything, because they were naturally born competitors who played in the same market. We saw they both had property listings in buildings across from each other.

Steve showed Fredrik the 88th floor views from the primary bathroom, and Fredrik mentioned that the old Steve wore scarves and wrinkled T-shirts. Steve said, the old Steve wasn’t in a committed relationship with a child. People changed. In Steve’s interview, he said it had been a horrible market, but the downs only made them more successful. He and Luiza were stronger as a couple, and baby Rose was almost two. He wanted to continue to be competitive and be better, but at the end of the day, he had all he needed. Look where they were standing. The sky was literally the limit. In Fredrik’s interview, he said he wouldn’t change anything about the past year. His business was very different than it was 10 years ago. He moved to L.A. when the pandemic hit. He’d wanted to have a foot in each coast. He couldn’t travel, but he moved with it, just like Robot Freddy. Would it ever replace the real thing? Never. He expected to be number one in New York and L.A. in the coming year.

Steve thanked everyone for coming, and in his interview, Ryan said it had been a lot of work, but super exciting. If they handled this year, they could handle anything. He thought he said that about last year too, but scratch that. This year was f***ed. They were all new people. He’d spent more time at home in 2020 than he ever thought he would. He worked the entire time, and wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else other than Amelia and Zena. When people looked back in ten years, they would say, this was the start of the greatest real estate boom in the history of New York City. Steve said, to the next chapter and a brighter future. To New York. Ryan said, New York is back, baby!

This was the season finale, so no preview.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

At the MetroCourt bar, Carly looks at her engagement ring. She remembers taking off her wedding set, and telling Jason she’s not ready, but it has to be done. Then she flashes back to Jason giving her the new ring. Laura arrives, and apologizes for being late. She had some last minute business repairing potholes. Carly says, you can’t talk too much about potholes, but Laura begs to differ, and she didn’t come there to talk about business. She came there to celebrate Carly’s engagement to Jason. Carly says she just saw the bartender set aside a bottle of their best champagne for Laura. That is not necessary. Laura says, it absolutely is. Think about it. All the bad news they had this year. It’s important to celebrate the good times. Gladys joins them, and says she agrees with the mayor, and please let her offer her congratulations. When’s the wedding date so she can put it in her calendar?

Brando and Sasha come in and sit at a table. He says he’s already ordered them drinks – non-alcoholic. She says just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean he has to abstain, but he says he wants to. He wants to go through everything she’s going through. (Good luck with that.) Sasha says, he’ll share her labor pains too? and he says he would if he could. He asks if that’s too weird and stalkerish, and she says, from anyone else, kind of, but from him, not in the least. He says, good, and just so she knows, he told Carly that he’s not interested in working in her and Jason’s business. She asks how Carly reacted, and he thinks relieved, but mostly happy that they’ve gotten together. Carly likes her a lot. She says she likes Carly a lot. When she was using, Carly really tried to help her. She was kind and supportive… He says, but she still doesn’t want their baby anywhere near the Corinthos business. She says, nor the baby’s father, and he says two of her wishes have come true. What’s her third wish? She says to know where they go from here.

At the pool (🍷), Josslyn hands Trina a sparkling green tea infused with mango, specialty of the house. Trina says, this is good, and Josslyn says, it was her mom’s idea. She wanted the non-alcoholic drinks to be just as good as the ones with booze. Trina leans back in her lounge chair, and says, this is so nice and relaxing. Josslyn says, sometimes, without Spencer around. Trina says, he’s not so bad, and Josslyn says, he can be; proceed with caution. Trina says this sounds like her talking to her mom, and Josslyn says, she told her mother to proceed with caution? Trina says, she almost did. Her mom is seeing someone. Josslyn says, like dating them? and Trina says, it’s the first time her mom has ever been serious enough about a guy, besides her dad, to tell her about it.

Curtis and Portia kiss, and she says she can’t believe this is real; they’re really together. He says, they are, and she says, which is why she hesitated to tell Trina. Does he know what a huge deal that is? She’s never spoken to Trina about any man she was seeing. He asks, why? and she says, no one was ever important enough.

Dante goes to Jordan’s office, and she says she got his report on David Hopkins, the helicopter pilot. He says they got some good info from Anna. He’s been going over the security footage from the hospital, the day the pilot was going to pick up Peter from the roof. She says, any luck? and he says Cyrus had the cameras disabled from the stairwells leading to the rooftop. She says, so no information on Peter’s accomplice? and he tells her, Anna said the pilot’s description was a bit vague. She says she read it in his report, and asks if Anna told him what she’s doing to follow up.

Finn says, ready? and he and Anna open the freezer, but it’s empty, reminding me of Al Capone’s vault. She says, it’s empty, and he says, that’s impossible. He put Peter’s body in there himself. She says he needs to be really honest with her. Who else knows about this?

Elizabeth tells Jason, she and Finn put Peter’s body in the freezer themselves. If Finn moved the body, he would have told her. Maybe it was Anna; maybe she found out. He says, somebody would have seen her. The cameras weren’t disabled until a few minutes before he went to the basement. She says, unless Anna figured out a way around the cameras. She saw them in Finn’s office. The way they looked, she thinks Finn was telling Anna that he killed Peter.

Trina says she honestly doesn’t know why she’s so weirded out by her mom dating. Maybe because it feels like life is changing so fast, and she wants her mom to stay the same. Josslyn says she knows what Trina means. They’ll be going to college soon, and it seems like their moms are taking advantage of their new lives to start new lives of their own. Trina says, Josslyn’s mom is marrying Jason, and Josslyn says, and Trina’s mom is getting serious about dating. Trina says, it’s hard seeing her mom as anything other than a mom and a doctor. Maybe that’s partly why she’s so confused. Josslyn asks, what’s the other part? and Trina says she thinks it’s the man her mom is seeing.

Portia asks Curtis, what’s that look about? and he says he’s just touched that she told Trina about him. He’s also surprised. She says, why? and he says he knows Trina’s happiness is her priority. She pours them some wine, and he says he has to know, what was her reaction? She says, Trina admitted she felt a little weird – her word – talking about it, but in the end, she just wants to see Portia happy. He says, if her reaction had been different, would he be sitting there right now? and she says, probably not. He laughs and says, that’s fair, and she says, she would have done her best to convince Trina to see the man that she sees. He says, they both know how convincing she can be when she wants to be, and she tells him, don’t you ever forget it. He says, when she’s ready, can he convince her and Trina to let him treat them to dinner?

On the phone, Jordan says she’ll let them know. She’ll handle it personally. She tells Dante that it was Monica. Some of the security cameras at GH were down again. He says, the same ones that were just fixed? and she says she’s afraid so. He says, Cyrus is in jail. That means his network is still intact. She says, maybe they want to continue to operate out of the hospital. Let’s go.

Jason says there’s no way Anna made it to the basement before him, and Elizabeth says she was sure Finn was telling Anna everything when she barged into his office. She even gave him an excuse to leave, and he didn’t take it. Jason says he heard her, but he was already on his way to the freezer; they would have crossed paths. She says if somebody else found the body and stole it, why haven’t they contacted Finn?  Or her? He says maybe somebody’s trying to protect her. Peter had a lot of enemies. There are a lot of people who would be glad he’s dead. She says, grateful enough to be their guardian angel? Enough to cover up Finn pushing Peter down the stairs? He says, there’s hundreds of people coming in and out of this hospital every day. It’s possible somebody stepped in. She asks if there’s a way to find out, and he says, there is.

Finn says he told Anna, no one else knows that he put Peter’s body in the freezer, but she says someone could have seen him without him knowing. He says, maybe, but if he was watched, why would someone move Peter’s body? She says, to protect him? and he says, why wouldn’t they tell him? She says, it depends on who this person is. There is, of course (🍷), another explanation. He says, which is? and she asks if he’s absolutely certain Peter is dead.

Brando says, if Sasha was granting him the where do we go from here wish, he’d say he’d like more time with her. She asks if he thinks they should get to know each other better before the baby arrives. He says, it would help with co-parenting, doesn’t she think? Her phone beeps, and he asks if he’s keeping her from something. She says she set a reminder on her phone to go check for apartments. Her studio is so tiny, even she can barely fit into it, let alone a new baby. He says, which reminds him, he needs to baby-proof his apartment, for when she and the baby come over. And maybe someday, the three of them will move in together – no pressure. She says, the three of them as in her, him, and the baby, or her, him, and Gladys?

Carly tells Gladys, they haven’t set a date yet, so invitations aren’t an issue. Gladys says she hopes they won’t be an issue where she’s concerned. Remember Sonny – may he rest – was her dear cousin. Laura says, and her dear friend, and Gladys says, then Laura realizes he’d want people at the wedding who remember him fondly, instead of dancing on his grave. Carly tells Gladys, she will not be on the guest list, and Gladys says, after she risked her life to exonerate the groom? Carly says, after Gladys perjured herself to make sure he was arrested in the first place. Brando runs over, and says he just saw Gladys was there. Would she like to grab a drink? She asks if he can afford it; the prices are so high there, and he chose not to join the lucrative Corinthos Coffee business. Laura says she’s sure he had good reasons, and Carly says, like a successful garage, but Gladys says, not as successful as the family business. Brando says, that’s enough, Sasha’s waiting, and leads her away. Laura says, oh my God, and starts laughing. She says she’s sorry, and Carly says she’s sorry Laura had to hear that. Brando is sweet, and it’s the only reason she doesn’t have Gladys thrown out of her restaurant. Laura asks how she feels about what Gladys said, and Carly says, that she’s dancing on Sonny’s grave? It’s just Gladys. Petty, nasty, and dead wrong.

Josslyn says Trina’s mom is seeing Curtis? and Trina says, on the one hand, she spent months hating Curtis for not doing more to save her dad. Then she realized her dad wasn’t really dead, so she had to take a step back, apologize and reassess. And that was before Curtis saved her and her mom from Cyrus, so it was already completely complicated. Then, on top of everything, Curtis is dating her mom. Josslyn asks if Trina thinks that’s why her mom and Curtis got together, because of what happened with Cyrus? Trina thinks that’s part of it, but she suspects it started before then. For a while, she thought her mom was the reason that Commissioner Ashford and Curtis split up.

Jordan tells security guy Bob, Bill, or whatever his name is, that Monica thought there was an issue with the new security measures she put in place, specifically the cameras installed in the stairwells leading to the roof, and the hallways leading to the basement. He says he thought it was best to let Monica know, so she could bring in the PCPD, in case Cyrus’s people are involved again. Dante asks how they access the hospitals basements, and he says, this way. They follow him.

Portia loves that Curtis wants to get to know her daughter better, and promises to take him up on the offer after the spend a little more time together, get a little more comfortable. After he… He says, after he tells Jordan. Of course (🍷). She says she knows speaking with Trina isn’t going to be easy, and he says that’s not what worries him. She says, then what is? and he asks, exactly how much did she tell Trina about them? Did she mention that they had an affair when Portia was still married to her father?

Gladys asks how her grandchild is, and if Sasha is taking good care of him or her. Sasha says, of course (🍷). This baby is her number one priority. Gladys says, like Brando is hers. If this baby is anything like his dad, be prepared for changing lots and lots of diapers. Sasha says she’s prepared, and she’s sure Brando will be prepared too, and Gladys says, of course (🍷), but Sasha and the baby can’t move in with them; there’s no room. Brando says he wanted to talk to her about that. He thinks it’s time she moved out.

Laura says Carly and Jason are planning a future together, and that is something to celebrate. She clinks her glass against Carly’s, and Carly thanks her. She asks if Laura thinks it’s too soon after Sonny, and Laura tells her not to let Gladys get to her. Carly says she’s not. She knows Gladys makes anyone a target. Laura says she has to admit, when she heard they were engaged, she was a little surprised, and Carly asks if she means so soon after Sonny’s death. Laura says she’s not passing judgement, and Carly says she’s sorry. It’s not Laura. It’s not Gladys. It’s her.

Jason tells Elizabeth that Spinelli confirmed he disengaged the cameras in the stairwells leading to the roof, and the stairwells below the parking garage. She says, so security couldn’t have seen him taking the elevator to the subbasement, and he says, or entering it either. When he didn’t find Peter’s body, he had Spinelli check the footage to see if anybody was heading down to the basement before the cameras were disabled. She says, and? Did he see someone? Jason’s phone dings, and he says, it’s Spinelli. He’s got an answer.

Anna imagines things were moving really fast. Could Finn have been mistaken about Peter’s death? He says he thinks he knows when somebody is dead, and she says, the conditions were less than ideal. Chase was in critical condition, and he needed to move Peter’s body before it was discovered. He wouldn’t be the first doctor to make a mistake. Jordan and Dante walk in, and Jordan asks what Anna and Finn are doing there. Anna says, sorry to catch them off-guard. She was just following up on what they talked about. Dante says they got a call from Monica. Some of the cameras in the hallways leading to the subbasement were also turned off. Jordan asks what Finn is doing down there.

Trina says Josslyn knows her dad is staying with Commissioner Ashford. She went by one night, and saw Curtis’s stuff in boxes, waiting for him to pick them up, but she had a good talk with Commissioner Ashford. She said the reason she and Curtis split up was because she kept too many secrets. So her mom had nothing to do with it. She sits on the edge of the pool (🍷), and puts her feet in the water. Josslyn says, so she has nothing to worry about, and joins her. Trina says, she still feels bad for Commissioner Ashford, especially since she went to Curtis’s nightclub right after. Josslyn asks, why? What happened? and Trina says, Curtis was taking off his wedding band… with her mom’s help. Josslyn says, that’s strange, and Trina says she told Ava, and Ava said not to worry, but now her mom and Curtis are dating, and she can’t shake the feeling they’ve been involved earlier. Josslyn asks, how much earlier? and Trina says, that’s what’s freaking her out. What if Curtis cheated on Commissioner Ashford with her mom?

Portia says she definitely did not tell Trina that she and Curtis were a thing when she was married to Trina’s father. That would break her heart. He says, but Trina forgave Taggert for faking his own death. If she can handle that, maybe she can handle this. Portia says she understands how he feels about secrets, and she’s usually right there with him, but how is this something Trina needs to know? He says, what if their history blows up in their faces? Secrets come out. Just ask Jordan.

Gladys says Brando is kicking her out? Sasha put her son up to this, didn’t she? Brando says, no, it was his idea. He needs the second bedroom for the baby. She asks if Sasha is moving in too, and he says, they’re not ready for that yet. Sasha says, but there will be times the baby stays overnight with Brando. Gladys says, and will sleep in his room. Brando is going to need her help changing diapers, and getting up for late-night feedings. He says he thinks he can handle it. The baby needs a nursery though, so she’ll have to find a place to live. She says he can’t afford her rent, especially since he’s not working for Jason and Carly; that’s where the money is. He says he’s not paying; she will. She asks how he expects her to pay for it, and he says, the same way everyone else does. Get a job.

Laura asks if Carly is having second thoughts, but Carly says, not at all. She and Jason made this decision together, and their committed. There’s no one else she’d rather spend her life with. Laura says she can think of one other person, and Carly says she loved Sonny. She still does. She misses him so much; she thinks about him a thousand times a day. Sometimes, she starts to text him a picture of Donna, or she wakes up thinking he’s going to climb into bed next to her. Laura says, of course (🍷) she does. Love doesn’t go away overnight. Carly says, Jason gets that. He’s grieving for Sonny too. Laura says, a part of Carly will always be with Sonny, and him with her. And that’s okay. It’s only natural that the friendship she has with Jason would develop into more now that Sonny is gone

Jason tells Elizabeth, Spinelli saw nothing on the security footage to indicate anyone got to the elevator down to the lab before he did. She says, Cyrus had the cameras turned off when he was the head of GH. There was no surveillance when Finn confronted Peter on the roof, and pushed him down the stairs. He says, or when she and Finn put Peter’s body in the freezer. The cameras stayed off for several more weeks. There’s no way to know who took Peter’s body.

Anna says she told Dante that the pilot was supposed to pick Peter up from the roof. Dante says he let Jordan know, and Jordan says, and someone else was on the roof with Peter. Anna says she thought she’d retrace Peter’s steps since he wasn’t picked up by the helicopter. Finn took her to the roof, then she found the abandoned elevator shaft, and came to the subbasement. She was vaguely familiar with this place. Jordan asks how Finn got involved, and he says when he saw Anna on her way to the roof, she told him what she was doing, and he offered to help. He thought he could find some hidden exit that Peter used. Dante tells Jordan he found some blood.

Gladys says, what kind of job? and Brando says she has tons of work experience. She says, he means slinging hash, selling perfume at department stores, and cleaning houses? He says, it’s honest work, and she says, it was hard work. Sometimes, Mike would hit the right pony, and threw a few bucks her way, just so she could put food on the table, and not send Brando to school in torn shirts. He says he appreciates it. Didn’t he send her money when he was in the military? Sasha says, when she told everyone Brando was dead? and he says, the point is, his kid deserves the best life he and Sasha can give them. And that means turning the spare bedroom into a nursery, and filling it with a crib, and toys, and a changing table. Gladys asks where she’s supposed to live, and who would hire her? She’s not as young as she used to be. Sasha says she’ll hire Gladys. Work at Deception.

Carly says she guesses she’s not used to the idea of marrying her best friend, and Laura says she and Doc were friends long before they fell in love. Those are the best marriages. Carly asks if their friendship changed, and Laura says, if anything, they got closer, because they started out as friends. Doc gave her this amazing sense of stability. That no matter how crazy life got – and it did – he’d be there to catch her if she fell. They can disagree, and they still like each other, and respect each other. They work well together; they complement each other. In time, their feelings for each other deepened. Carly says she’s lucky, and Laura agrees. She gives thanks every day for Doc. She doesn’t know how she would have gotten through this tragedy with Lulu without him.

Josslyn tells Trina, when she was a kid, she thought her parents were perfect. When she grew up, she found out they make mistakes like everyone else. Trina asks if Josslyn thinks her mom lied about when she started seeing Curtis? but Josslyn says she doesn’t know Trina’s mom like Trina does. Does it seem like something she’d do? Trina says, blow up someone else’s marriage? Her mom’s not like that. Josslyn says, then she probably didn’t. Trina says Josslyn is right, but it’s unsettling. If something sketchy was happening, and Curtis could do that to Commissioner Ashford, he could turn around and do it to her mom. Josslyn says, at the end of the day, they’re adults, and what they do is their business, not Trina’s. Trina says, wrong, and gets in the pool (🍷).

Portia says the secrets Jordan kept from Curtis have nothing to do what she does or doesn’t tell her daughter. Curtis respectfully disagrees. Secrets are alike in one pivotal way. They’re ticking timebombs, waiting to explode, hurting everyone who’s close to them. There’s already too many people who know about the affair they had when she was still married to Taggert. She says, Taggert would never ever tell Trina, and neither would Jordan. His Aunt Stella likes to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong, but she doesn’t think even Stella would want to hurt Trina in that way. He says he knows Laura would never say anything, but when this many people know about a secret, it’s bound to get out, intentional or not. He’s surprised she’s not more worried about this, and she says she’s surprised how hard he’s pushing her to go against her better judgement, and tell her daughter something that serves no purpose and she doesn’t think Trina should know. Curtis says, hold on. Are they having a fight?

Jordan and Dante look at the blood, and Dante says, if Peter made his way down there from to roof, he could be hurt. Jordan says, or maybe he hurt the person he was on the roof with. Dante says he’ll check the corridor, and see if there’s any more evidence. Jordan tells Anna and Finn, it’s officially a crime scene, so don’t touch anything, but Anna says they already did. They were in such a rush, neither one of them thought to glove-up. Jordan will have to tell forensics to account for their fingerprints and DNA. Jordan says she’ll let them know, and leaves. Finn thanks Anna for covering for him, but what happens to her if Jordan finds out she was withholding information?

Jason tells Elizabeth, the cameras were off for weeks before anyone made it to the subbasement. Anybody could have gone down there and not been seen. She says, that’s the point. Nobody goes down there. Most people don’t know the subbasement even exists. It’s not even on the hospital floorplans. He tells her to take him through what happened again; what she saw, not what Finn told her. Everything she remembers. She says she was worried about Finn, and we flash back to the scene as she talks. When she got to the 10th floor stairwell, she found Peter’s body. He was lying on the landing, bleeding from the back of the head. It was obvious he had fallen. She checked for a pulse, and couldn’t find one. She looked up and saw Finn standing in the doorway to the roof. Then he came down the stairs. Peter was dead. Finn couldn’t risk an investigation when Chase was critical, and that’s when she remembered the elevator on the roof that goes straight down to Helena’s lab. So they dragged Peter’s body up to the roof, and into the elevator, and down to the lab, and put him in the freezer. Then she went back to the stairwell to clean up the blood, and make it look like nothing ever happened. Jason asks if she’s sure she checked Peter’s pulse, and she says, yes. There was no pulse; he wasn’t breathing. He asks if Finn checked Peter’s pulse, and she says she thinks so. Honestly, she doesn’t know; she doesn’t remember. Why? Jason says, maybe he wasn’t dead, but she says, of course (🍷) he was dead. She and Finn know what dead looks like. He says, they were in a panic and rushed. Maybe they made a mistake. She asks if Jason thinks Peter climbed out of the freezer and just walked away, and he says, either that, or someone saw them, and took his body. She says she thinks Anna and Finn may have some answers. She’s calling Finn.

Anna tells Finn not to worry about her. The police believe Peter’s still alive, and with no body, there’s no evidence of a crime. Finn says, there’s blood, but she says, they can’t connect it to him. He says, so they’re just going to let them assume Peter is alive? and she says, they can’t be sure he’s not.

Gladys says, work at Deception? As a model, like Elizabeth Hurley? Sasha says she was thinking of something more administrative. They have an assistant position open. She’d be answering phones, helping with scheduling, answering emails… Gladys says, sounds tedious, and Sasha asks what Gladys thinks of when she thinks of Deception? Gladys says, glamour, the beauty, perfect women… Sasha says, and that’s what people will think of her when they find out she’s working for the company. They’ll know she has a glamorous job, dealing with beautiful people. They will be in awe of her, knowing she’s part of Deception’s world. Brando looks like he’s in awe of Sasha’s smooth talking, and Gladys asks if she can have free makeup; all the products. Sasha says, of course (🍷), and Gladys says, then she’ll take it, but the first person who asks her to make coffee… Sasha says, will be told to make their own coffee. Gladys laughs, and Brando smiles.

Carly tells Laura, when Michael was a baby, all she wanted was to marry Jason. Now she’s actually marrying him. She knows it’s the right thing for her family, and Laura asks why she sounds so unconvinced. Carly says, she’d like to think Sonny would approve, but wonders if it’s wishful thinking. Something she’s telling herself to feel better about moving on so soon after Sonny’s passing. Laura say she knows Sonny just adored Carly, and she knows Sonny would understand. In fact, she thinks he’d be grateful Jason is there to look after her.

Anna tells Finn, with no body, and a potential blood trail, they have to consider the possibility that Peter is still alive. He says, maybe she believes that because it might exonerate him, or at least reduce the charges, and she says, Finn put him in the freezer, and he’s not there. They have to figure out what happened to him. Finn wonders where they begin, and she says, that is the question of the hour. They divide and conquer. She’ll take the police, and he can find Elizabeth. She clearly wanted to say something to him when she interrupted their conversation. He starts leave, but stops and thanks her.

Elizabeth tells Jason, she and Finn have tortured themselves since this happened. Afraid to leave Peter’s body in the freezer, in case somebody finds it, but unable to move it. What if they’ve been worrying all this time for nothing? What if someone moved the body the minute they left the lab? He says, that’s the best thing that could happen. Peter’s gone. No body; nothing to cover up. It’s like nothing happened. There’s a knock at the door, and Finn says it’s him. Elizabeth opens the door, and Finn says, whoa, when he sees Jason. Elizabeth tells him that Jason knows everything, and Finn says, so does Anna. Elizabeth asks if they found the body. Did they move it? He says, there was no body. Nothing. It was empty. And the PCPD are investigating. She asks if they know, and he says, Anna covered for him. Jason asks, what about Elizabeth? and Finn says he left her out of it. No one knows she’s involved.

Jordan tells Anna that she’s called in her top crime scene investigators and forensic specialists to investigate what happened down there. Anna asks, what about the K-9 unit? and Jordan says it was her first call. Dante joins them, and says, found something.

Gladys says she must prepare for her new life. Sasha won’t regret hiring her. She kisses Brando on the cheek, and says she’ll see Brando at home. She leaves, and Brando does a slow applaud, saying, bravo. Good work. Sasha deserves the gold medal for handling Gladys. It takes years of hard practice. Does she know what she got herself into? Sasha nods, and says, keeping his mother busy, and out of their lives. Now they can finally have some privacy before the baby comes. He says, before their lives explode in a million pieces of joy and dirty diapers. Sasha thinks the joy will outweigh the dirty diapers, and he says he’s counting on it.

As they get out of the pool (🍷), Josslyn asks what Trina is going to do about her mom and Curtis. Trina says, the first thing is keeping an eye on Curtis. If he’s not treating her mom right, he will know pain. Josslyn says she almost feels sorry for that man. Remind her not to get on Trina’s bad side. Trina says she can’t think of any situation where that might happen, and Josslyn says, same here.

Portia tells Curtis, no. They’re not having a fight. They’re having a disagreement, and it’s over. He says, fight or disagreement, he doesn’t want her mad at him. Trina’s anger was scary enough. She asks where he thinks Trina got it from. Does he want more wine? He says, that depends on her, and she suggests they save the wine until after he speaks with Jordan, and after their first official date. He asks what that date looks like, and she says, definitely dinner, some candlelight, a bit of soft music, and seeing where the night takes them from there.

Dante says he found more blood, and Jordan asks, how much? He says, if it’s Peter’s, he’s hurt really bad. She says, they’ll find out. She just told Anna that she’s throwing everything at this. Anna asks, what’s her first step? and Jordan says, finding the man on the roof with Peter.

Carly says she does think Sonny would approve of her marrying Jason, and Laura says, but it doesn’t make her miss him any less. Carly says, no, and Laura says, the thing about marriage is, it’s not a sprint. It’s definitely a long distance race, made up of a million different moments shared between two people, big and small. Personally, she thinks it’s a huge advantage to going into that with someone you already know and trust. She thinks over time, Jason will take more of Carly’s heart. That’s how it was for her and Doc. Carly puts her hand on Laura’s hand.

Elizabeth thanks Finn for keeping her off Jordan’s radar, and he says, of course (🍷). He thinks Anna suspects someone helped him move the body, but she’s keeping quiet about it. The police believe Peter’s alive, so they have that working for them. Elizabeth asks what Jason thinks, and Jason says, as long as the cops don’t know they put the body in the freezer, he thinks they’re off the hook – for now.

Tomorrow, Nikolas tells Sam to stop looking for Hayden, unless she wants trouble; Trina asks if Josslyn is warning her away from Spencer; Spencer asks Ava if they can put the past behind them; and Valentin asks Anna why Finn needs protecting.

🧸 Tucking Myself In…

It’s been a stressful day, chasing a FedEx package and getting vaccinated. And so to bed. Okay, email, then bed. Until we cross paths again, stay safe, stay rolling with whatever your state mandates are, and stay not being petty, nasty, and dead wrong, like Gladys.
