What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Valentin brings Victor the necklace, and Victor says, finally; that’s more like it. He whips out his jeweler’s loupe and checks it out, saying, to think they could have done this together, father and son. Instead, he’s had to choose another heir to carry on the Cassadine name. Valentin’s betrayal broke his heart, so he thinks it’s only fair he return the favor. He shoots Anna, who slumps to the floor.

The audience applauds the magic act, even though Obrecht disappeared and never came back. Molly says, Georgie and James were so adorable, but where did Obrecht go?

Esme watches the Nurses Ball at Laura’s apartment, bouncing Ace on her knee.

Backstage, Nina asks Maxie where Georgie and James are, and Maxie says, in the dressing room. Georgie is trying to figure out what went wrong, and James keeps insisting magic is real. Nina asks, what happened? Did Aunt Liesl get stuck or something? Maxie says, that’s the mystery. Liesl vanished from the vanishing cabinet.

Bobbie tells the audience not to go anywhere. The next act is the act they’ve all been waiting for, and they don’t want to miss it. The audience applauds, and the bracelet bodyguard asks Sasha where Gladys is. Sasha says, she was here a second ago. Maybe she went to the ladies room? We see Gladys sneaking around backstage, sans bracelet.

Josslyn asks if Trina is still upset that Spencer talked to Dex like that, and Trina says, Josslyn was pretty annoyed with him too. Josslyn says she’s still furious, but she’s not dating him.

Sam says, Spencer is brooding at the bar. Is he just being a Cassadine, or did something actually happen? He says he blew it with Trina – again.

Gladys comes back to the ballroom, and Sasha says, the bodyguard was looking for her. Gladys wonders if a lady can’t powder her nose in peace, when Sasha asks, where’s the bracelet?

Victor leaves with his goons, and Valentin runs to Anna. She tells him to go after Victor.

Gladys says, a bazillion dollar piece of jewelry has just been stolen, but Sasha says, it probably just fell off. Look around. The bodyguard comes back while they’re looking, and asks, what’s wrong? Where’s the bracelet? Gladys says, that’s what she’s trying to tell Sasha; somebody stole it. Sasha says, maybe it’s just missing. Maybe the clasp broke. The bodyguard asks, when was the last time she thought she had it? and Gladys flashes back to putting it in Cody’s tux pocket backstage. She says she doesn’t remember, and just prays they find it soon.

Trina tells Josslyn, it’s not just the way Spencer spoke to Dex. It’s like he went out of his way to pick a fight. Josslyn says, maybe he’s just being an entitled jerk. He’s overcompensating for his own insecurities by lording his imaginary status over those who actually work for a living. Trina says, but he wanted to do better. She really believes that. Spencer was lashing out, and Dex was the nearest target. Something’s going on with him. Josslyn says, like what? and Trina says she doesn’t know, but she’s going to find out. She’s not letting Spencer hide this from her anymore.

Obviously in pain, Anna struggles to breathe. She tells Valentin, if his father gets away, they’ll never find him, but Valentin says he’s got to get her to a hospital. He calls 9-1-1.

Walking into the Haunted Star, Victor tells Watkins, that was nice work with Miss Devane. Watkins provided just enough incentive to get his son to talk. Watkins says, it’s Victor’s new strategy, and Victor says, and an effective one, if he does say so himself. He asks if Watkins has followed up on Holly Sutton, and Watkins says, she’s still listed as a patient in the Swiss burn unit, but she’s not there. She doesn’t have a room, she’s not being treated. There’s no patient there matching her description, so she’s not using an alias. Victor says, all the more proof that fire was a ruse. Miss Sutton has been looking for her son when she should have been recovering. Watkins asks if Victor wants them to move him, and Victor says, in a manner of speaking. It’s time to offload Ethan Lovett… at a profit. Victor’s phone rings, and he says, when it rains… taking it out of his pocket. He asks if they’ve found Lucy Coe… He wants her home, the PCPD, and the MetroCourt under constant surveillance. That’s probably where she’s going to run to. She’s one of their remaining loose ends – he messes with the necklace as he talks – he needs to have tied up, now that he has everything he wants.

Gladys wonders who would steal the bracelet, and at a charity even no less, but Sasha suggests Gladys retrace her steps. Did she leave the ballroom, other than going to the bathroom? Gladys says, she’s been here the whole… wait… she went backstage to tell Maxie what a great job she’s doing. The bodyguard asks if she talked to anyone else when she went backstage, and Gladys says, now that he mentions it, she did see Cody Bell.

From the stage, Maxie asks for everyone’s attention. They have another anniversary to celebrate. Ten years ago today, at the 2013 Nurses Ball, there was a performance that not only brought down the house, it set this place on fire. It’s been a few years since we’ve seen them, but they are now back. She’s so happy to introduce The Magic Wands. The Magic Wands, including Milo, and is that Yuri? dance to Devil in Disguise, going out into the audience and back, and ending with showing the audience Nurses Ball 2023 on their behinds. The dancing is pretty good, with some unknown dudes doing a lot of flips and old school break dancing.

Backstage, Maxie tells Milo, once again, he blew the room away. He says, the guys were really good, but she says, every football team needs a quarterback, and every heart-stopping, jaw dropping all male review needs a centerpiece, and that’s obviously him. Some little girl runs through, nearly colliding with them, and Milo says, break a leg. She looks at him, and he says, that means good luck. She gives him a thumbs up. I can see no conceivable reason for this scene, so I’m wondering, who is this kid related to? Maxie says, her performance is going to be darling, which reminds her, she has to tend to the performers. She thanks Milo for coming, and he thanks her for having him. He leaves, and she says, now if she could only find Liesl. Nina walks in, and Maxie asks if she’s seen Liesl. Nina says, no, and this is ridiculous. She knows she has a bone marrow harvest tomorrow.

Laura comes home, and asks if the Nurses Ball is still on. Is Esme enjoying the show? Esme says, there’s certainly a lot of local talent on display. She asks if it happens every year, and Laura says, almost. She loves how their community comes together to raise money for a good cause. Esme says, it certainly seems like everybody… yes, and Laura says, Ace looks a little bit tired. She reaches for him, and Esme says, don’t touch him.

Sonny comes backstage, and Nina tells him that they can’t find Obrecht. Maxie says, they questioned Georgie, James, the stage managers, but everybody says the same thing. Liesl stepped inside the disappearing cabinet, and never stepped out. Sonny asks how it works, and as he looks it over, Maxie says, there’s a false back that the assistant hides behind to disappear. Then they slide back to reappear. He says, there’s a trapdoor at the bottom? Is there a trap door on the stage? Nina says she’s not sure, and Maxie says she’ll text the stage manager. Nina says, maybe she fell through the trap door. Aunt Liesl could be hurt. They all walk out.

Spencer asks Trina to tell him that he hasn’t screwed up the best thing that’s happened to him. Can they talk please? She says, okay. Tell her, what is going on with him?

Felicia fans herself, and Robert asks what she thought of Magic Milo. Mac says, those Magic Wands have her all flustered, and she says she’s not apologizing for enjoying the act, but the one who always gets her flustered is her Mac. Robert says his brother’s a very fortunate man, and Mac says, doesn’t he know it.

TJ comes back to the table after getting out of his Magic Wand skivvies, and Molly says, he was so good. He says, the things he does for charity, and she says, what about her sacrifice? She had to share him with a ballroom of thirsty women. He says, okay, the things she does for charity, and they kiss.

The bodyguard says, the bracelet’s been found, and Gladys asks, where was it? The bodyguard says, one of the people in wardrobe found it when she was moving some clothes. It fell out of a tux pocket. Gladys says she told them it was stolen, and Sasha says she can’t believe someone would actually do this. Who was it? Cody comes in and asks if anyone’s seen his… What’s going on?

Victor’s messenger, now dressed in sweats, comes onto the Haunted Star, and tells Victor, everything went fine on his end. Victor says, excellent. Now he wants messenger guy to check the state rooms; make sure they’re appropriately prepared for their guests. He asks if Tobias is back, but messenger guy says, there’s been a complication.

Valentin tells Anna, please stay awake, and she says, if anything happens… He says, nothing is going to happen, but she says she’s glad they found each other. He says he doesn’t know how he got so lucky, and she says, he’s a good man. He says he doesn’t know about that. He thinks there are plenty who would disagree with her. She says, they don’t know him like she does. They don’t know his heart like she does. He says, she knows him better than anyone, and she says she loves him. He says, and he loves her, and he hears the sirens in the distance. She starts to fade, and he calls her name.

Esme says she’s sorry. She didn’t mean to snap at Laura like that. Laura says, that’s okay. Esme knows she’d never hurt the baby, right? Esme says, of course (🍷) she knows that. Did Laura ever hate leaving her kids out of her sight for even a second? Laura says she has, and Esme says she feels like everyone is making some claim on Ace, and he’s all she’s got. Laura says she understands, but babies pick up on the emotions of people around them. How does Esme think her constant anxiety is going to affect him? Esme says she’d never hurt her son, and Laura says she knows that; that’s not what she meant. Laura’s phone rings, and she says she has to get this. She answers, Laura Collins…  Oh my God… Where is she?… Okay, she’ll be right there. She tells Esme that she’s sorry, but she has to go right now. They’ll talk later. She rushes out.

Spencer says he’s sorry about what happened with Dex, and Trina says, sorry because he treated Dex like dirt, or sorry because she’s disappointed? He says he’s sorry he upset her. That’s the last thing he wants to do. She says, he does know that’s the wrong answer, and he says, Dex is not a good guy. Whatever is going on with him and Josslyn… She says, is none of his business. He says, Cam is his best friend, so it is his business, but she says, Cam is in California, living his dream, and that is not the reason he went after Dex. Spencer was spoiling for a fight, and Dex was there. And Spencer knew Dex works for his uncle and wasn’t going to fight back. That is the definition of a coward. He says, she’s right. He’s sorry. He’s trying to do better. She asks if he means that, and he says, of course (🍷) he does. She says, good. Apologize to Dex. His phone rings, and he sees it’s Victor. She asks if he’s really going to answer the phone right now.

Robert’s phone rings, and he says he’ll meet them at the hospital.

The bodyguard asks if that’s Cody Bell, and Gladys says, that’s him. Cody says, or the guy could just ask him, and the bodyguard asks if this is his jacket. Cody says, all tuxes look the same, and the bodyguard asks, so where’s Cody’s? Cody says, it went missing when he was on stage, so it may or may not be his. What’s going on? Sasha asks, did he maybe find a bracelet on the floor, and put it in his pocket for safekeeping so he could return it later? Cody says, no, and the bodyguard asks, then why was it found in his pocket? Gladys says, because he stole it, but Cody says, if it was in his pocket, it’s because someone else put it there. Maxie blows through, and asks them to take this conversation elsewhere. She’s trying to put on a show. Sasha says she’s sure they can clear this up, but Cody says, there’s nothing to clear up. He has nothing to do with the bracelet, but the bracelet’s back, so no harm no foul. He starts to walk away, but the bodyguard stops him, and Mac walks in. Mac asks, what’s going on here? and the bodyguard tells Mac, arrest this man.

Dex and Josslyn make eyes at each other, when Sonny calls Dex over. Dex asks, what’s up? and Sonny says, they have a problem.

Cody says this is a mistake, and the bodyguard says, a million-dollar bracelet was found in his jacket pocket. Cody says, but he didn’t steal it. Mac has to believe him. Mac says he’s just following the evidence, and Cody says, Sasha please. Gladys says, this guy’s been hanging around her all night, insinuating himself with her daughter-in-law. Following her, and apparently casing her so he could strike at the perfect moment. Does Cody deny following her in here? Cody says he doesn’t deny it, and Mac says, so he admits to following Gladys.

Trina says, they’re right in the middle of something, but Spencer says he’s sorry. It’s his Uncle Victor. He has to. He steps away, and says, yes, uncle? Victor says, it took him long enough, and Spencer says, sorry about that. Now’s not a good time. Victor says, it doesn’t matter. Does Spencer want to get his brother away from Esme? Spencer says, Victor knows he does, and Victor says, then come to the Haunted Star immediately, and tell no one.

Laura walks into the hospital, and asks Valentin, where’s Anna? He says, she’s in there, pointing, and Laura asks, what happened? He says, Victor shot Anna in the abdomen. Robert comes out of the elevator, and Valentin says, the bullet’s still inside of her. She coded in the ambulance – he starts to cry – but they were able to bring her back. Laura says, Anna is very strong; she will make it through this. Robert asks where Victor is now, but Valentin says he doesn’t know. He got away. Laura asks, what about Lucy? Where is she? Valentin says, she was able to get out of the house, but he doesn’t know where she is now.

Slipping into the Ball backstage area, Lucy says, if she can just find Mac and tell him that Victor found the safehouse. A muscley dude comes up behind her with a gun, and says, don’t move. She turns around, and muscle man says, if she screams, he’ll shoot her. She says she’d really rather he didn’t, and he says, good. Let’s go. She says, this is just a whole case of mistaken identity… Actually, it’s not, but she’s not a spy. She doesn’t know how to decode anything… He tries to grab her arm, and she says, one thing she does know how to do its this, and kneecaps him. He doubles over, holding his knee, and she runs.

Robert tells Laura, when Valentin called from the ambulance, he said Anna had been shot. Did he offer any other details? She says, Valentin didn’t call her; the hospital did. Robert says, when? He was under the impression Anna and Valentin arrived at the hospital… She says, right before her. She asks Valentin if Victor gave any clue as to what his next move might be, and Valentin says, he only said he’d chosen a new heir. Robert wonders what he meant by that, when the doctor comes out. Valentin asks, how’s Anna?

Accompanied by messenger guy, Spencer walks into the Haunted Star, and says, so this is where Victor is staying. Victor says, it suits his current needs. Did Spencer tell anyone he was coming here? Spencer says, no. He followed Victor’s instructions to the letter. So tell him, what’s happening with Ace? Is everything all right? Victor asks why it wouldn’t be, and Spencer says, when they spoke this afternoon, Victor told him to sit tight. Has something changed? Is there something Victor needs him to do?

Nina tells Sonny that Obrecht’s bag is still in the dressing room, her car is still in the garage, and no one’s seen her. Dex comes in, and says, no sign of Dr. Obrecht, and Nina says, she’s scheduled to have that stem cell transplant tomorrow. Willow cannot wait, and if Aunt Liesl is missing, or if she’s hurt somewhere… Sonny says, they’re going to find her Aunt Liesl, and everything’s going to be fine, and he holds Nina.

Mac says, so Cody admits to following Gladys tonight, and Cody says, yes, he followed her, but not to steal some bracelet. Mac asks what reason he’d have. How does Cody even know Gladys? Cody says he and Gladys have crossed paths a few times, and Gladys says, there’s no big mystery here. Cody saw that bracelet on her wrist, and thought it was an easy payday. Mac asks if Cody has anything else to say, and Cody says, he didn’t steal the bracelet. He guarantees his fingerprints aren’t on it. Gladys says, that doesn’t prove anything. You can wipe off fingerprints, and I oughtta know. Mac puts handcuffs on Cody, and tells him his rights.

Jordan says she knows TJ and Molly are still in the trying stage, but can she probably expect a grandchild within the year? TJ says, they’re still in the seltzer solidarity stage. They have a long way to go. Jordan says, they’re two of the most efficient people she knows. It probably won’t take too long. Her phone rings, and she says, ugh. It’s the station. She steps away to take the call.

On the phone, Jordan says, Anna Devane’s at GH?

The doctor says, they’ve prepped Miss Devane for surgery to remove the bullet, and Robert asks, how bad? The doctor says, she’s critical, but they’re trying to keep her blood pressure up enough to affect her organs, including her brain. Gunshots can create considerable damage from the bullet fragmenting. They won’t know the extent of the damage until they’re inside, and can assess what they’re dealing with. He leaves, and Laura says she has to make a call. She goes down the hall, and says, come on, Esme, pick up.

Felicia runs into the hospital, and asks Valentin what the doctors said. Robert says, this is your fault, Cassadine. She wouldn’t be in this state if it wasn’t for you. Felicia says, stop it. Did Valentin shoot Anna or did Victor? Don’t take this out on Valentin. Valentin says, Robert’s right. Victor shot Anna to hurt him. This is all his fault.

Lucy tries a door on the next landing, but it’s locked. She squeals, and turns around, but muscle man is there, and says, it looks like she has nowhere to go. She says, he has great big muscles, and a tiny little gun… but she has this. She pulls down a boa from a costume box, and starts smacking him with it. As he’s dodging the feathers, Sonny comes up behind him, hitting him with a large cane. He drops, and Sonny says, a boa? Really? Lucy shrugs.

Mac asks if Cody understands his rights, and Cody says he always does. Mac starts to take him away, when Sam runs in, and asks, what’s going on? Cody says, it’s a frame-up. This time, he’s innocent. Mac leads him away, with the bodyguard following.

Carly takes the stage, introduces herself, and says she doesn’t work at GH, but her mother is an integral part of the hospital. She asks Bobbie to come out, and everyone cheers. Bobbie says, for the few who don’t know her, this is Barbara Jean Spencer; she’s nursing officer at General Hospital. More cheers, and Carly says, they’re not just celebrating General Hospital’s 60th year, they’re celebrating Bobbie. This beautiful woman has been helping people and saving their lives for the past 45 years. What makes General Hospital so special is its people; the passion and tradition of helping communities and making the world a better place. No one embodies that more than her mother, Nurse Bobbie Spencer. More applause and cheers, and Bobbie flashes back to when she was practically a baby nurse; telling Monica her cancer prognosis; giving BJ’s heart to Maxie – I remember that, and even though I had no investment in the storyline, it made me cry anyway; with Laura; giving Elizabeth the morning after pill when she was raped, even though she wasn’t authorized to do it; threatening to bitch slap Tracy to the Canadian border; making peace with Carly. Carly says, she is a consummate healer, infinitely kind and loyal to those she loves, and equally fierce to her adversaries. Carly should know; she’s been both. Bobbie found Carly when she was at her worst, and loved her until she was her best. And she’s not the only one.  That’s what she does to anyone whose life she touches. That’s what Nurse Bobbie Spencer does for General Hospital. Bobbie is given a standing ovation.

Sonny asks if Lucy is okay, and she says she’s not dead. He says he can see that. Good for her. She says, thanks to him, and he says he does what he can. How can he help her? He holds out his hand, and she steps over muscle man. She tells Sonny that she has this really important errand, but what does she do with… She looks at muscle man, and Sonny says he’ll take care of it. She thanks him, kisses him on the cheek, says, ta! and dashes out.

Victor says, Spencer’s already done his part. He called on Spencer, and voila! Here he is. Spencer says, so now… what? He hears something, and asks, what’s that? Victor asks if he doesn’t recognize the sound of ship’s engines, and Spencer asks, what’s going on?

Laura sees a pacifier in the hallway outside her apartment, and picks it up. She lets herself in, and the place has been tossed. Esme lies unconscious on the floor, and there’s no Ace. Laura says, oh my God.

Jordan says, she was told Valentin died in Paris, and Valentin says, the reports of his death are… exaggerated. She says, clearly. Here he is. Meanwhile, she has reports of multiple shots fired at a house in a quiet suburban neighborhood, and now one of her best friends is fighting for her life. So why doesn’t he tell her what the hell is going on. He says his father shot Anna, and she asks, where is Victor? Valentin says he doesn’t know, but he does know, whatever insane plot Victor is hatching is going to be unleashed on them very soon. They have to stop him.

Bobbie thanks Carly for the beautiful and unexpected tribute. It’s an honor. And it’s also an honor to be involved with General Hospital’s first 60 years. She’s also been given another honor this evening; the chance to speak about Lucy Coe. The curtains part, and there’s a giant photo of Lucy. Bobbie says, it might seem counterintuitive that she’s up here, because she and Lucy were never friends. She and Lucy were tearing each other’s hair out – Lucy arrives backstage, and listens – long before the word frenemies was even invented. Lucy came to town dressed as a librarian, and seduced the man Bobbie loved. That was only the beginning. Lucy lied. Lucy cheated. She even married a Quartermaine. Backstage, Lucy says, Bobbie’s one to talk. She started off by lying to Laura that she slept with Scotty. Lucy heads up the stairs to the stage, and Bobbie says, somewhere along the way, in 1994 to be exact, Lucy shocked everyone, especially her, by discovering a passion for giving. Lucy finagled herself a place as Mistress of Ceremonies at the very first Nurses Ball, and it transformed her. All of that willfulness, all of that guile, the conniving, the deceit, the vanity… In the wings, Lucy says, vanity? Bobbie’s red hair hasn’t been natural for a hundred years. Bobbie says, Lucy cajoled, she arm twisted, she blackmailed to get all of them there, either onstage or in the audience the first year, and many years thereafter. From 1994 to the early 2000s, and 2013 to the present, the General Hospital Nurses Ball has raised millions of dollars for HIV and AIDS related charities. She turns to the photo, and says, and Lucy Coe was the leader, the inspiration, and yes, the relentless nag that made it all happen. Lucy Coe isn’t here tonight, but none of us would be here… Lucy stomps toward the stage, but slips on something on the floor, and busts right through her photo, faceplanting. Everyone is shocked, and Lucy gets up. She says, what the hell did Bobbie call her? Bobbie says, she’s alive, and Lucy says she’s back. Deal with it. Bobbie says, welcome home, and moves to hug Lucy, but Lucy backs away. The audience gives Lucy a standing ovation, which is only fair.

On Monday, Portia thinks something wasn’t such a great idea; Victor says he’s not abducting Spencer, he’s saving Spencer; and Carly asks Nina where the hell Obrecht is.

A Happy Holiday to all celebrating both Passover and Easter (aka Resurrection Sunday). After the festivities, stop in on Monday really Tuesday for soap, setting sail, and the original awful Housemates. Until then, stay safe; stay taking a spring break, even if it’s only in your mind; and stay never overcompensating for your insecurities by lording your imaginary status over those who actually work for a living. In other words, don’t be an entitled jerk.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Valentin runs back into the safehouse, and tells Lucy and Anna to get down. Another shot is fired through the window.

Linc tells Josslyn that she was born to be a performer. She just needs the right person to guide her. Brook stomps over, and pretends to bump into Linc, spilling her drink all over him.

Mac says, Maxie and Bobbie are doing a fantastic job. The show is going off without a hitch. Bobbie says, the trick is to make it look effortless, which Maxie is doing effortlessly. Good thing no one knows what goes on behind the scenes. Felicia can’t wait for the big act coming up, but Maxie says, there are a lot of great ones before that. Which reminds her, she has to check on them. She excuses herself, and Felicia says, Maxie was younger than Georgie at the first Nurses Ball. Now look at her; she’s running the show. Bobbie says, time sure flies, doesn’t it? One thing she knows for sure, if the Nurses Ball could have all of its unexpected acts happen, including Mac’s surprise acts over the years, it could handle anything. Felicia says she remembers her first performance. She was absolutely petrified. Everything was a big blur. We get a little flashback of Felicia in a clown costume, and she says, when it was over, one thing she knew for sure; she was better off in the audience. Mac says, he remembers being furious at Robin and Stone’s Romeo and Juliet scene. He was so mad at Doc and the kids, his stand-up became a tirade. Felicia says, they can laugh about it now, and Bobbie says, what about her act? At least their situation with Robin didn’t end up in an out-and-out brawl. Mac says, they had no idea what the Nurses Ball would come to mean to Robin, and the whole community. Bobbie says, with all of its traditions and the loved ones lost, she’s really proud of what they started in those days. And she’s even more proud of continuing it on tonight.

Brook tells Linc she’s so sorry, and stomps on his foot as she tries to wipe him off. She says, Josslyn’s mother is looking for her, and Josslyn asks if Brook is okay. Brook says she’s fine. She and Linc have some business to discuss. Josslyn leaves, and Linc grabs Brook’s arm, asking, what the hell was that?

Valentin sets up the coffee table as a barricade, and tells Lucy and Anna, the house is surrounded, front and back. Lucy says, they’re trapped, but Anna tells her to remember the window she climbed out of, and Lucy says, right. They can all go out that way. Valentin tells them to leave now, but Anna says, no, and Lucy says she’s not leaving Anna. Anna tells her, go, and Lucy says, all right. She’ll get help. She slips into the back, and Valentin says, it’s Anna’s last chance to get out, but she says she’s not leaving him. He says, they’re going to be in here any minute, and she says, they won’t like what the find. Victor’s goons bust through the front door. Shots are fired back and forth.

Cody gives Sasha a glass of champagne, and she thanks him, but says, he really doesn’t have to wait on her. He says, it gives him a chance to escape the muckety-mucks and an excuse to talk with her, but she says, they’re not all muckety-mucks, and he never needs an excuse to talk to her. He says, good to know, and asks how things are with Gladys. She says she’s not sure what he means. He spoke to Gladys earlier; she seemed fine. He says, Gladys is having a great time. He was talking about her. When Gladys sold her husband’s garage, Sasha was pretty upset. She says, actually, it still bothers her, but Gladys had good reasons. Gladys walks in, and Sasha says, it had to be a painful reminder for Gladys to deal with that every day; paperwork, constantly seeing Brando’s name… She sold it to give them both closure. He asks if Gladys even went over the details of the sale with her. Does she know who the new owner is? Sasha says, actually, she doesn’t think so. Why is he…? Gladys comes over, and says she wondered where Sasha disappeared to.

Anna and Valentin are on their knees with their hands up, Victor’s men behind them, and Watkins comes in, saying, clear. Victor walks in, and says, Valentin, you’re alive. The question is, for how long?

Gladys looks at the bracelet on her wrist, and says she must be the luckiest mother-in-law in the world. Sasha thanks her, and says she loves seeing Gladys enjoying herself. Gladys says she almost forgot. Dante was asking for Cody; it sounded important. Cody thanks her, and says he’ll go check it out. He leaves, and Gladys looks at Sasha, who says, what? Gladys asks if she’s all right, and Sasha asks why she wouldn’t be. Gladys says, that Cody fella. She’s heard things about him. He’s not a reliable character.

Jordan asks if Mac has time to talk shop, and he says, about the late Deputy Mayor? She says, yeah. She got a call on the red carpet. The preliminary autopsy indicates there was no air in her lungs. Eileen Ashby didn’t drown. She was killed by a fall. He says, so she either jumped, she slipped, or… Jordan says, they pushed her. He says, they need to check her known associates, and Jordan says, start with Victor Cassadine.

Linc says, what Brook did just now, interrupting him when he was recruiting new talent… comes perilously close to violating their agreement. I don’t know how he figures that, but okay. Brook says she mentioned nothing to Josslyn about him being a sleazebag, and he says he paid well for her silence. She got her songs back. Sometimes he thinks he overpaid; those songs were good. Who would believe what she had to say about him anyway? He’s going to track down Josslyn Jax. I wonder why Brook didn’t mention that Sonny’s her stepfather.

Cody sits with Sam and Dante, and asks if he’s told Sam how beautiful she looks. She thanks him, and says, he looks handsome himself. He thanks her, and asks why Dante needed to see him. Dante asks what he’s talking about, and Cody says, Gladys Corbin said Dante was looking for him. Dante says he tries to avoid Gladys as much as possible. You know. The whole not being able to choose your relatives thing. Sam asks if Gladys really said Dante was looking for Cody, and Cody says, I kid you not. Sam wonders why she’d do something like that.

Portia asks if she can sit with Elizabeth and Finn, and Elizabeth asks if everything is okay. Portia says, Trina’s having such a good time. It’s all she can do not to go over and talk to her, but she doesn’t want to put a damper on Trina’s evening. Elizabeth says, it’s not always going to be like this, and Portia says, that’s what she keeps telling herself. Finn says, for what it’s worth (🍷), he and his dad were estranged for a lot of years, but his dad never gave up on him. And he doesn’t think it’s going to take Trina nearly as long to realize she needs Portia.

Deanna takes the stage, and introduces herself. She says, tonight, she has the pleasure of introducing a phenomenal talent. This amazing artist was already established and accomplished in her career as a public defender. She stepped out of her comfort zone to pursue her dream of touching people with her God given talent, and they should all be grateful she did. She asks everyone to welcome, Danielle Ponder. Danielle comes out and sings Someone Like You. Luckily, she has her own band and doesn’t have to rely on the invisible musicians and back-up singers that everyone else does. She’s good. Macy Gray-ish. I also love the dress she’s wearing.

Victor asks if there’s any sign of Lucy, but Watkins says, no. There’s an open bedroom window. Victor says, so the bird has flown. No matter. He’ll deal with that later. Valentin says, he wasn’t exactly subtle taking the house. Someone from the neighborhood will have contacted law enforcement. He’s sure they’re on their way. Victor says, is that so? and Valentin says, it’s the suburbs. If Victor doesn’t want a lengthy gun battle with the police, he thinks Victor should probably leave. Victor asks if Valentin thinks he’s just going to turn around and walk away after going through all this trouble to track Valentin and Anna down. He’s not going anywhere until he gets what he came for, and Valentin is going to give it to him.

Backstage, Maxie thanks Danielle for performing, and Danielle says, the Nurses Ball does important work, and she’s happy to lend her voice to the cause. Maxie says, she did more than lend her voice; she blew everyone away. They’d still be applauding if the curtains hadn’t closed.  Carly runs in, and shakes Danielle’s hand, introducing herself. She says her mom is Maxie’s co-chair, and she shamelessly used her connections to come back and meet her. She was so amazing. Of course (🍷) for her incredible voice and lyrics, but just as much for leaving her law career and following her dream. How did she have the courage to do that? Danielle says, it got to the point where she knew she couldn’t do both, and she couldn’t leave behind music, so she completely surrendered. Carly says, she followed her instincts, and Danielle says, it sounds like Carly knows something about that. Maxie says, Carly is kind of known for following her instincts… no matter where they lead. Carly says she’s never regretted it, and Danielle says, neither has she. They high-five.

Gladys says, apparently, Cody was dating Dr. Britt Westbourne, the late, may she rest, and Sasha says she knows that. Gladys says, but she overheard Maxie saying that Britt found out he was no good, and broke things off; something to do with a necklace. She doesn’t know the details, but it concerns her. Sasha is just getting her life back on track. She’d hate to see it derail by somebody trying to work her for her money.

Dex asks for a shot of tequila at the bar, and ever putting his nose where it doesn’t belong, Spencer asks if his uncle knows Dex is drinking on the job. Dex says he doesn’t know. Maybe Spencer should run and tell him. Spencer says, Dex is here to work, not suck down tequila shots and pretend he belongs. Ugh. I hate when Spencer does this stuff. Dex says he’s got a ticket like everybody else, when Trina and Josslyn walk in. Spencer says, a ticket his Uncle Sonny bought Dex. He’s an employee, so how about if he gets back to work? Trina asks Spencer what he’s doing.

Bobbie is checking things off a list backstage, when Sonny comes in, and says, the Ball’s going great. She asks if he needs something, and he says he was thinking about starting up an Epiphany Johnson scholarship fund for the nursing students, so he wanted to add to his donation in the name of Stone Cates. He gives her an envelope, and she looks at the check inside. She says she’s never been okay with the way he treated her daughter, but he’s always been very generous when it comes the to the Nurses Ball. And the way he took care of Stone was nothing short of heroic. He says, Stone was a special person. They did everything they could for Stone, and when Stone lost his fight with AIDS, Sonny vowed to continue in his memory. Giving the Nurses Ball donation for AIDS/HIV research is the least he can do. She says, damn him. He has his moments, and this is definitely one of them. He laughs, giving us dimples, and she says, Stone would be very proud of him.

Victor says, he wants the Ice Princess necklace; the real one. Valentin says, last he heard, it was destroyed by fire, and Victor says, this is Valentin’s very last chance. He wasn’t able to claim Valentin as a child, but he watched over Valentin all along, smoothing the way for him. He’s the one who got Valentin into the WSB. That turned out to be a bad mistake, since that’s when Valentin first became fixated with Miss Devane. Valentin says he proved himself worthy of the WSB on his own merit, and Victor says he’s sure Valentin would like to believe so, and it’s true, Valentin was a brilliant analyst. But this life he’s so proud of building for himself was built with Victor’s influence. Valentin did nothing without his help. So imagine his disappointment after stepping forward to claim Valentin, after acknowledging Valentin as his child, Valentin rejecting him. Valentin lied, he manipulated Victor, he sided with Victor’s enemies. Valentin even faked his own death, for God’s sake. Victor spent weeks arguing with French bureaucrats trying to claim Valentin’s body. Weeks consumed with guilt, mourning his son, who wasn’t even dead. He should kill Valentin right now and be done with it. But he won’t. He’ll give Valentin one more chance to redeem himself, to step up as a Cassadine. Do what’s right for his family, and give him the necklace.

Dex says, if they’ll excuse him, he’s due backstage. He leaves, and Trina asks Spencer, what was that, calling Dex an employee? Spencer says, that’s what he is. He’s supposed to be protecting Spencer’s Uncle Sonny, not drinking tequila shots. Trina tells him, stop. She can’t believe this. He says, listen… but she says, you listen. She hates when he acts like this (we high-five in my head); like some ugly, entitled jerk, lording his privilege around. She thought he was done doing that. She guesses she was wrong. She hates that she’s always wrong about him. She flounces out, and Spencer says, wait. Josslyn says, nice work, Spencer. Once again, he’s hurt Trina. He says, like she does with Cam, and she says, like he’s in any position to judge. Ever since he got back to Port Charles – bringing the lovely Esme with him – he’s caused nothing but misery. Why doesn’t he do them all a favor, especially Trina, and go back to Europe and stay there.

Dex asks how Dante’s table is doing, and Dante suggests he pull up a chair. Dex thanks him, but says he can’t. He tells Cody, it’s time, and Jordan asks, time for what? Cody says, she’ll see, and leaves with Dex. Gladys fingers the bracelet.

Finn tells Elizabeth to wish him luck, and she asks why he needs it. he says, let’s just say, there are things you’d do for your family that you wouldn’t do for anyone else. He goes onto the stage, and Maxie gives him the mic. He says, when he joined the staff at GH seven years ago, he was amazed at the way the city of Port Charles shows up for the hospital, the way they’re all showing up tonight. He says, one of their next two performers is very dear to his heart, and asks them to welcome to the stage, Harrison Chase and the fabulous Blaze. Blaze and Chase sing a song that the closed captions say is Arrest Me, but I think they might be screwing with me, since that phrase isn’t in the lyrics. It’s good, but nothing will ever beat Chase’s rendition of Feel it Still.

Everyone cheers, and Blaze says, their new single drops Wednesday. Don’t forget to download it. Linc grabs a microphone, and says, weren’t they great? He puts his arm around Blaze, and kisses her cheek. Brook runs up on stage, and tells him to get his hands off of Blaze, calling him a disgusting creep.

Valentin says, Victor has been very upfront about his life and accomplishments. Does Victor mind if he returns the favor? Victor says he’d rather Valentin return the necklace, but Valentin says, it was never Victor’s necklace. Victor says, he is head of the Cassadine family. The Ice Princess, by rights, belongs to their family. Valentin says, Victor has a tendency to equate his megalomania with the family. Whatever his grand plan, no other Cassadine cares. Not Spencer, not Nikolas – wherever he is – not Alexis or her daughters. And certainly not him. This is just a giant waste of time. He doesn’t have the necklace. Victor says, Valentin is going to make things difficult. He’d have expected nothing less. He has to admit, he’s going to enjoy the next part. Watkins grabs Anna, lifting her up by her neck, while one of Victor’s goons holds back Valentin. Victor says, unless Valentin gives him the necklace, Watkins will break the lovely Anna’s neck, and leaves her paralyzed. Valentin says he doesn’t have the damn necklace, and Anna gasps, Valentin… no… necklace… Victor says he thought of killing Anna, then he thought, what is the fun in that? He wonders how long Anna’s boyfriend will go on loving her when she can no longer stand. Wow. He doesn’t give Valentin much credit for being a decent human.

Brook says, this man deserves no credit for Chase and Blaze’s appearance here tonight, nor for their talent. He calls himself a manager; he’s a parasite. Linc tells her to watch herself, and she says, he latches himself onto young talent and exploits them, both financially and sexually. Ned gets up, but Olivia holds him back. Brook says, Linc told her that he’d kill her career if she didn’t sleep with him, which he tried to do. He held all her songs, and the only way she could get them back was to sign a non-disclosure agreement. But she’s breaking that agreement here tonight. She refuses to remain silent about whom and what Linc Brown is – a sexual predator. Linc snatches the mic back, and says, these are obvious lies. No one will corroborate a word.

A man tells Spencer that he’s here to deliver a message. His uncle will be contacting him soon. Be ready when he does, and do as he’s told. The man leaves.

Linc says, Brook could have been a star, but now she’s just a jealous has-been, making up stories to try and keep herself relevant. Maxie says, it’s time to clear the stage, but Blaze grabs the mic, and says, she’s not lying. Everything Brook said has happened to her. She cries, and says, Linc Brown is a predator, and he’s been holding her career hostage. Gladys slips out, and Blaze says, but she didn’t sign a non-disclosure agreement, and she’s going on the record tonight. Linc says, don’t get caught up in her hysteria, and Blaze says, go to hell. Chase puts his hand on Linc’s arm, and says, it’s time to clear the stage, but Linc shakes him off, saying, Chase isn’t a cop anymore. Dante says he’s a cop – he walks up on stage – and Linc is creating a public disturbance. Let’s go. He takes Linc’s arm, and walks Linc out to applause. Ned stands up as Dante goes past, and Chase looks at Brook.

Spencer comes back, and sits with Sonny. On stage, Nina says, it’s a great night, isn’t it? She thanks them for being here, and says, as co-owner of the MetroCourt – Carly and Olivia roll eyes at each other – she’s happy to be able to be able to use this ballroom for a worthy cause. It also affords her the privilege of announcing the next two performers. Please welcome to the stage, Georgie Spinelli, James West, and their oma, Liesl. Obrecht comes out with James and Georgie, and Georgie says, ladies and gentlemen, tonight you’ve seen singers and dancers… James says, llamas, and Georgie says, and now it’s time for some real magic. Tonight, with the help of their incredible assistant… James says, they’ll perform wizardry to surprise and delight them. Georgie says, now for their first illusion, and Obrecht picks up a large tube. James says, they have an empty tube, and puts his hand through it. They can see there’s nothing inside or outside. But they add a little bit of magic… He and Georgie touch the tube with their wands, and he pulls out a long strip of material in different colors, which I suspect is coming from Obrecht’s sleeve. There’s applause, and Obrecht drapes it around her neck. James says, for their next illusion, they’ll make water disappear. Obrecht wheels over a cart with a pitcher and two Solo cups on it. Georgie says, they have a pitcher of water; nothing unusual. She pours some water into one of the cups, and says, before they make the water disappear, what’s Obrecht’s favorite color? Obrecht looks at the colors around her neck, and says, blue. Georgie tells James, a little magic please, and he taps the cup with his wand. She pours the water into the other cup, and it’s blue. James says, now to make the water disappear. They need some more magic. Georgie taps the second cup, he turns it over, and it’s empty. The audience applauds, and they bow. Georgie says, for their next illusion, they will make their assistant disappear. Obrecht feigns surprise, and wheels over a large cabinet. Georgie opens it, and Obrecht gets in, waving to the audience as the door closes.

Gladys sneaks around backstage, and ducks behind the costumes. Walking past, Dex says, he’s seen combat, but this seems scarier, and Cody says he’s fallen off a bull and a whole bunch of stupid other stuff. When they’re gone, Gladys finds a hanger with Cody’s name on it, and slips the bracelet into his jacket pocket.

Georgie opens the cabinet, and it’s empty. James says, now they will bring their assistant back. Georgie closes the door again, and James taps on the cabinet with his wand. Georgie opens the cabinet, but all that’s there is the material from the first magic trick. Everyone laughs because they think the kids just messed up the act.

Obrecht lies in the trunk of a car, out cold. Victor’s messenger closes the trunk, and walks away.

Valentin comes out with the necklace, and Victor says, finally. That’s more like it. He whips out his jeweler’s loupe, and checks it out. He says, release her, and Watkins lets go of Anna. Victor says he and Valentin could have done this together, father and son. Instead, he’s had to choose another heir to carry on the Cassadine name. Valentin’s betrayal broke his heart. So it’s only fair he returns the favor. He takes out a gun, and shoots Anna. Maybe.

Tomorrow, Bobbie says, the next act is the one they’ve all been waiting for; Victor says, make sure things are prepared for their guests; Trina tells Spencer, that’s the wrong answer; and Sasha asks where Gladys’s bracelet is.

General Hospital

Britt and Brad walk into an event going on at the MetroCourt pool. Brad’s impressed; Britt, not so much. She calls it tacky, and grabs a drink from a passing waiter’s tray. Spinelli is there, and as he looks for his card to give a woman, she walks away. Austin comes in, and says he thought Spinelli told him it was a charity event. Spinelli says, it is, but Austin says, it looks more like a meat market. Spinelli says, the invitation he received clearly said it was first and foremost a fundraiser, and Austin asks, then how does Spinelli account for everyone having great hair and sparkling white teeth? Spinelli says, maybe it’s the icing on the cake, and asks if Maxie is accompanying Austin, or might she be attending solo? Austin says, Maxie was supposed to come with him, but got stuck at work.

Drew thanks Brook for inviting him to this. How did she know about it? She says, how could you not? Whoever does the PR for Society Set-Ups stopped only at skywriting. Everyone who’s anyone is here. He says, should make for an interesting party, when they see Chase walk in. Chase and Brook lock eyes.

At the courthouse, Carly says, Scotty grossly distorted Michael’s history. Nobody is going to believe what he said, least of all Wiley. Michael says, he can explain away fiction, but one day Wiley is going to have to face the bad parts of his past. And Nelle’s, and Harmony’s. He was thinking, Will Wiley ever forget any of this?

Ava is practicing at the shooting range, when Laura comes in. Laura asks if Ava ever misses, and Ava says, you know what they say. Practice the way you play. Laura asks what she’s practicing for, and Ava says, not what; who.

Esme takes off her jacket to reveal her crop top, and tells Nikolas, it looks like they’re both having a bad day. He says he didn’t hear her come in. Is Spencer with her? She says, he was, but then he left her… again. She pours a drink, takes a sip, and hands it to Nikolas, saying, she guesses they’re both on their own.

Chet says, Terry wants him to move to Chicago? and she says, of course (🍷) not, but this isn’t about what she wants. He says, what if it is? If she’s as interested as he is in seeing where this goes, he should stick around, right?

On the phone with Obrecht, Nina says, the judge just ordered a recess… Willow walks in, and Nina says she thinks she can meet Obrecht for a quick cup of coffee. She tries to pass Willow, but Willow grabs her arm and says, she’s not going anywhere. Nina tells Obrecht, something came up. She grabs Willow with her other hand, and says she won’t be able to meet Obrecht after all, but she’ll call after the hearing. She tells Willow, let go of me, little girl, and Willow says, I will if you will. They break apart, and Nina asks what she wants. Willow says she wants Nina to give up the pretense of being a loving grandmother who only wants what’s best for Wiley. Nina says, that is all she wants, and Willow asks, then why did she let Scotty attack Wiley’s father on the stand?

Sam goes over to Spinelli, and says, another new outfit? Or is he just here to impress the ladies? He says he only aims to impress her. Beverage? She says, yes, and he takes her hand, leading her to the bar. Brook goes back to talking to Drew, and Dante asks Chase, what’s going on with him and Brook these days? Are they on, off? Chase says, it’s unclear, even to him. Is Dante available to help out a former partner? He may need an emissary. Dante says, at his service. He happens to speak fluent BLQ. Brook looks at Chase again, then tells Drew that he should mix and mingle. He asks if she’s trying to get rid of him, and she says, she’s trying to get him to see the opportunity to get investors for Aurora. He tells her, careful. She’s going to live down the cliché that the Quartermaines eat, sleep, and drink business. She says she learned at her father’s knee, and Drew asks if Ned has spoken to her about the offer he and Michael made him. She says, their paths haven’t crossed since the last time Ned turned down their COO offer. If they want Ned involved, this ELQ/Aurora merger has to happen, so he’d better flash his smile. Actually, there’s a woman at the bar who keeps glancing his way. She’s carrying the newest Cartulo bag. She should be good for a few hundred shares. She leaves, and he says, yeah, that’s not how it works.

Carly says, one day, Wiley is going to discover his parents are flawed, just like Michael did with Sonny, but Michael says, he never wants Wiley to see him the same way he sees Sonny. She says she hates that Sonny brought him to this point, but it’s not going to be the same as Wiley.

Nina says she didn’t want to bring this to court; Willow and Michael forced her hand. Willow says, no one forced Nina’s lawyer to say Michael is violent toward women, and a baby thief, and Nina says, Scotty just presented the facts. Willow says, so it’s a fact, that Nelle was protecting Wiley when she put Willow’s dead baby in Michael’s arms, and told him that his son was dead?

Britt wonders, what’s the point of a pool party if no one’s swimming? and Brad says, he’s just taking a wild guess, but maybe no one wants to ruin their hair and makeup. She says she may need his help tonight, and he says ready and available for wingman duty, but she says, no. She means in keeping her glass filled. She can only face this party in a state of cheerful oblivion. He says she might want to stay sober for him, and she turns to see Drew. Drew asks if they’re here for the fundraiser, the singles mixer, or both, and Britt says, both. The company behind this is the matchmaking service her mother signed her up for. Drew says he guesses she’s feeling more optimistic, and she says she’s optimistic about free cocktails. He laughs, and she says, as for the rest, the jury’s still out.

Laura tells Ava, it sounds serious. What’s wrong? Ava says she’s just blowing off steam, and Laura asks what has her so steamed she’s at the firing range? Is it Esme, Spencer, Nikolas…? Ava asks if she has to choose just one, and Laura asks if she has a favorite. Ava says, Laura’s son, and Laura says, so things are no better between the two of them? Ava says, Nikolas knows they need time alone, just the two of them, to work on their marriage, but he resents her efforts to make that happen. Laura asks if she thinks it has something to do with their houseguests, and Ava says, she’d love to blame everything on Spencer and Esme, but really, they’re just a symptom. Laura asks, what’s the disease?

Esme says she hopes she didn’t cause trouble when she told Nikolas about Ava asking them to leave Windymere in exchange for Spencer getting control of his trust fund. Nikolas says, an allowance from his trust fund, and Esme takes it he and Ava talked. He tells her, you could say that, and she says, they argued, and she’s to blame. Can he forgive her? She thought he already knew about the arrangement and approved. He says, his and Spencer’s failure to communicate isn’t her fault; neither is the fact Spencer didn’t say something himself. She says, don’t take it personally. Spencer only seems to communicate with Trina these days. He says he thought Spencer and Trina didn’t have much of a friendship anymore, but she says, they keep running into each other. It’s like Port Charles has a population of two people. He says, he’s sorry his son isn’t more considerate, but a word of advice – pick your battles. She says, there is no battle. The fighting is over. So is her relationship with his son.

Chase asks Austin if Maxie is there, and Austin says, she got stuck at work; she’ll be here soon. Chase says, he wanted to thank her for inviting him to Bailey’s first birthday party, and Austin asks if Chase and Brook will be attending together. Chase says he can’t speak for Brook, but he’ll be there. Austin says, right. So they haven’t gotten off that roller coaster yet.

Brook hugs Dante, and says she’s glad he’s here. He asks, why? and she says, because he’s her friend and stepsibling. He says, good to see her too, and she says she needs a favor. He says, he knew it. How many people has she asked already?

Sam says she’s still adjusting to the new look, and Spinelli says, it’s not a crime to overhaul his threads. Besides, sartorial splendor is underrated in these modern times. She says, but not underpriced. She asks if this means he’s ready to move on, and he says, if he was contemplating a new romance, he could do worse than signing up for Society Set-Ups, with their proven track record.

Laura says, Ava and Nikolas both came into the marriage with their fair share of baggage. She’s wondering if the root issue isn’t in the here and now, but more in past? Ava says, the truth is, she fought her feelings for Nikolas tooth and nail, because she knew she couldn’t trust him. Laura says she thought they worked through that, and Ava says, she thought so too. Now she wonders if they fell in love because they solved their trust issues or in despite them.

Nikolas says, Esme and Spencer broke up? and Esme says, in every way that matters. Spence made his choice, and it’s not her. Nikolas says, Spencer is young; they both are. However bad things seem now, is she sure they can’t ride out this particular rough patch? She says, that depends. How do you know when it’s time to give up? He says he wishes he knew. Interjecting here. I have never once used or heard a friend use the phrase rough patch, yet I hear it all the time on this show. Is this colloquial or something?

Terry says she likes Chet, a lot, and she’s enjoyed getting to know him, also a lot. He asks if he’s about to get one of those let’s-be-friends speeches, and she tells him, don’t turn down this amazing job opportunity for her. What if they don’t work out, and he regrets not taking the job and moving to Chicago? He says, what if he regrets missing out on a chance with her? and she says, if a train doesn’t stop at your station, it’s not your train. He says he has no idea what that means, and she says, what’s meant to be won’t pass us by, and right now, this job opportunity is waiting. He says, he just hates ending things with them before they’ve even begun.

Carly says, they knew today would be hard, but Michael was amazing on the stand. There’s no way the judge will grant Nina’s petition. He says he wishes it was her job, and asks if she’s wondering when the judge will be finished tearing into Scotty. She says she was, and she was wondering if she had enough time to run a quick errand. Inside the courtroom, Willow says, Nelle made her believe her son was alive. Carly and Michael go back in, and Willow says, Nelle used her newborn son as a prop in her sick manipulation. Nina says, she has to understand, Nelle was abused by her father, and Willow says, stop trying to rehabilitate Nelle. She was irredeemable. Nina says, she was a product of her upbringing. If she hadn’t been stolen… Willow says, Nina would have made all the difference in Nelle’s life? Nina would have steered her off the path she was on? How would that have worked? Nina was in a coma until Nelle was in her 20s. Nina says, exactly. She didn’t get the chance to raise Nelle. Willow says, Nina may not have raised Nelle, but it’s obvious Nelle inherited Nina’s nature, and Nina asks if she’s implying people are born bad. Willow tells Nina, look at her mother, then look at herself, then Nelle. She’s saying, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Nina says, if we can’t escape our DNA, Willow must be terrified. Willow goes over to Michael, and Nina says, too bad Harmony’s not here to tell her who, or what, her real mother was. Willow lunges at Nina, but Michael stops her. Nina walks away, and Carly asks if she hasn’t done enough damage. Nina tells Carly, shut up, but Carly says she won’t shut up. Willow says, Nina doesn’t care what damage she does. She’s ripped this family apart, and she’s not done yet. Distorting Michal’s past and weaponizing it, when all Michael’s done is love and protect his son in a way Nelle never did. Nina says she never told anyone Willow and Michael weren’t great parents, and Michael says, she had her lawyer do it for her. Willow says, Nina is so disingenuous. She pretends to care, when in reality, she never treated Willow very well, starting from when she was Charlotte’s teacher. Nina says she thought they were past that, and Willow says she got past that, despite Nina’s attacks on her. She gave Nina multiple chances when she found out Nina was Nelle’s mother, and how did Nina thank her? By exploiting her generosity, and trying to manipulate her. Nina isn’t worthy of Wiley. Nina says, it’s not Willow’s decision to make, and Willow says, whatever the judge rules, Wiley is her son, and his childhood will be different from hers. She wasn’t protected, but Wiley will be. Nina says she would never hurt that little boy, and Willow tells her, so Nina keeps saying, but she already has, and Willow will lay down her life before she lets it happen again.

Drew commends Britt on her bravery; it’s hard to put yourself out there. Britt says, as her mother puts it, time is not on her side, and Brad asks why Obrecht would say that. Britt says, any way to find fault. Now that her mother is paired off, she sees Britt’s singledom as a failure. Brad asks if anyone wants refills, and Drew and Britt both say they do. He goes to the bar, and Britt asks if Drew is on the prowl, or there for the fundraiser. He says he’s not much of a prowler, never has been, but Brook wanted to check out the party, and it’s great to support a good cause.  

Chase tells Austin that he and Brook have their off days. Maybe they’re a lost cause. Austen asks if that’s why Chase is at a singles event.

Dante asks, what’s the favor? and Brook says she has a Linc issue. He asks why she doesn’t talk to Chase about it… Wait. Did she ask Chase to do something illegal or unethical? He doesn’t want to know. She says she thought Chase would be supportive, and Dante says, he has been supportive. Isn’t that how he got suspended from the force in the first place? Chase helped Brook out in a big way, so why doesn’t she cut him some slack?

Sam asks, since when has Spinelli been a fan of matchmaking? and he says, professional help can be more reliable, certainly than his judgement. He chose Ellie, and in the end, their lives diverged because they wanted different things at different times. Perhaps with proper vetting, he can be matched with someone whose life fits in more with his. Sam asks, then why does he have a new look? It’s a look that’s different than the one she’s used to him having. What’s going on?   

Laura and Ava shoot, then bring the targets forward. Ava’s has a shot dead center, but Laura has nothing. Ava says, maybe the why doesn’t matter; their marriage is in trouble. Nikolas can be unfailingly generous when he wants to be – when the gift is something he wants to give – but when it comes to something that matters to her, he’s oblivious. Laura says, this may not be the right time to bring this up, but she sent in her letter of recommendation to Adams Day School, and Ava says, Laura wrote a letter for Avery? Laura says she did. she knows the headmistress, and she also put in a call the head of admissions, letting her know she’s looking forward to meeting with her to talk about Avery. Ava says she doesn’t know how to thank Laura, but Laura says, don’t thank her; thank Nikolas. He’s the one who told her that Ava wanted to get Avery in there. Ava asks if he suggested Laura write the letter, and Laura says, he did, and she was more than happy to do it. She thinks it’s a great idea. It’s a terrific school, and Avery is a terrific kid. Ava says she mentioned it to Nikolas, but didn’t think he was paying attention, and Laura says, it’s nice that he pleasantly surprised Ava. Ava asks if this is where Laura tells her not to give up too soon.

Esme asks if Nikolas is considering giving up on his marriage, but he says, that’s private. She says she only asks because she could use some advice. Spence is her first real relationship. All she knows is, they don’t bring out the best in each other anymore. They don’t put each other first the way they used to. He says, nobody wants to feel like a consolation prize, and she says, she deserves better. And so does he. His wife should put him first, or set him free to find someone who will.

Austin asks if Chase and Brook aren’t tired of this dance.

Brook tells Dante, it’s just how she and Chase are. One day, they’re besties, and the next they’re not speaking, until one day it blows over. Dante says, until it doesn’t. Chase is a patient guy, but everyone has their breaking point. There will come a day when Brook pushes him too far, and he doesn’t come running when she calls.

Laura asks if Ava still loves Nikolas, and Ava says, love isn’t always enough. Laura says, that’s true, but where there’s love, there’s hope. Ava’s been so generous with Nikolas, encouraging him to reconcile with his son. The thing is, he’s not that good at finding the balance. Does Ava think she could be more patient with him; give him the time he needs to work on the two most important relationships in his life? Ava says, she’d give Nikolas all the time in the world if he was working on their marriage, but he’s not. He doesn’t even acknowledge that Ava deserves better. He’s not asking her to be patient. He’s asking her to keep her head down, and shut up and face east.

Nikolas says he’d rather not discuss his marriage, and Esme says, of course (🍷). She’s only trying to be a good friend to him like he’s been to her. Can he forgive her? He asks, how can he help her? Can he get one of the maids to help her pack? She says, thanks, but she’s already finished packing. Not that she knows where she’s going. She rubs her arms, and he says, she’s cold. Her back is to him, and she smiles as he takes his jacket off and puts it around her shoulders. He says, old houses are drafty, but she says, Windymere’s not old and drafty; it’s stately and formidable, like the Cassadines themselves. She was proud to be associated with this family, even if for a little while. He asks if it’s possible with time and distance, she and Spencer will find their way back to each other, and she says, even if they can get past the mistrust, neglect, and dishonesty, something changed, and it’s a deal breaker. He asks, what’s that? and she says, their attraction. Spence doesn’t want to make love to her anymore. It hurts, but she doesn’t have to tell him that. She and Spence aren’t the only ones sleeping apart.

Terry tells Chet, let’s talk about these new beginnings. Director of Mental Health Outreach; sounds like he’ll have his hands full. He says, the facility has innovative programs that really do some good, and she says, and he’s already thinking of a way to make them better. He says, to be honest, he hasn’t been this excited in a long time – present company excluded. She says, he’s entitled to feel excited about this opportunity, and he asks if there’s any way he can take this job and still see her. What are her feelings about long distance relationships? She says she’s not opposed, but this job is going to require all his energy and attention. He won’t even have time to date all those midwestern women who will be flinging themselves at him. He says, and if the job’s not all it’s cracked up to be, and those midwestern women can’t compare to her? She says, then there are planes from Chicago to Port Charles every day. He says, but the way he got the job… and she says, his sister may have applied in his name, but he got the job based on his experience and credentials. All he has to do is decide if he wants it, and she thinks they both know the answer to that.

Nina says she respects that Willow is looking out for Wiley, but doesn’t Willow understand? She’s doing the same thing. Willow says, then drop the petition. Accept that her forced presence in Wiley’s life is self-serving, not to mention, a constant reminder of a mother that Wiley will thankfully never know. If Nina really wants what’s best for Wiley, give him a different lineage; a new legacy. Nina says she can’t do that, and Willow says, it’s ironic. Nina wears those heart pendants when she’s heartless. Michael leads Willow away, and Carly asks if she’s okay. Michael says he’s got this, and asks if Carly didn’t have an errand. Carly says, she does, and she wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t important. Stay strong. Carly leaves, and Willow says she’s sorry she lost her cool, but Michael says he couldn’t be more proud of her. And Wiley couldn’t as for a more protective mother. He hugs Willow, and Nina watches.

Diane and Scotty come out, and Scotty tells Nina, that could’ve gone worse. She says, really? and he says, the judge skinned him alive. She’s going to put his hide on her wall like a trophy. Nina says, she’s sorry. He’s not the only one who got flayed. Willow came after her like a mama bear. He says, she’s not changing her mind, is she? She doesn’t say anything, and the bailiff says, all rise. The judge comes in, and Diane calls Willow to the stand. Willow and Nina stare at each other.

Britt grabs another drink from a waiter going by, and tells Drew, the more she looks around, the more she wonders what she’s doing here. He says, she’s supporting a great cause, and she says, if that was the reason, she would have stayed home and written a check. He says, she’s stepping out of her comfort zone a little bit, and giving Society Set-Ups another try. She says, why is she bothering? Everyone knows she’s hopeless at dating. He asks who everyone is, and she says, Maxie, her mother, Spencer… He asks what Spencer has to do with it, and she says, the point is, this is a colossal waste of time.

Sam says, Spinelli never answered her question. What’s going on? He says he truly respects her sleuthing instincts, but isn’t her docket full? She says she always has time for him, so whatever he’s hiding, spill. He sips his drink.

Diane asks Willow, what is her relationship to Wiley? and Willow says she’s his mother. Diane asks her to tell the court why she feels the petition should be denied, and Willow says, Nina doesn’t have her son’s best interest at heart. Diane asks if she’s saying Nina doesn’t love Wiley, but Willow says, she believes Nina does love Wiley, on her terms, as she defines love. What worries her, is Nina feels she has a right to Wiley, but Willow doesn’t believe sharing DNA automatically entitles you to a familial relationship. Nina kept Wiley’s grandfather from him for months. She played an active role in breaking up the marriage of Wiley’s grandparents. Today at the hearing, Nina directed her attorney to attack the character of Wiley’s father, and grossly distort a tragedy. And she did all of it without thinking about the cost to Willow’s son. As a mother, there’s nothing Willow won’t do to protect her son, including putting his best interests ahead of her own, and everyone worthy of being in his life should feel the same.

Laura tells Ava, she loves her son, but she knows who he is, and knows he puts pride ahead of all other emotions. Ava says, they’re both proud, not conducive to compromise. Laura says, that makes it tough, but not impossible, and Ava says, advice? Laura says, you know the myth that marriage is 50/50, and all responsibilities are shared equally? and Ava says, she wishes. Laura says she thinks it’s more give and take. One partner falters, and the other steps up, and vice versa. She and Doc have a good relationship, but it’s not without its troubles. Ava says, really? and Laura says, for sure. They both have tough jobs that take up a lot of their time, and they feel they don’t have enough time for each other. So they have to work on shutting the world out, and making time to focus on each other. Ava says, that’s exactly what she wants, but Nikolas won’t reciprocate. What is she supposed to do; hold on indefinitely, while she’s selling herself short? Laura says, only Ava can decide that, but she’ll ask Ava the same question she’s going to ask her son. Would she rather be right, or would she rather be happy? Apparently, Laura’s been watching Dr. Phil.

Esme tells Nikolas, never forget that he’s a powerful attractive man in his prime. She admires the way he cares for his family, but while he’s trying to make Ava and Spence happy, he’s losing himself. What does he want? What does he need? He says, respect… peace… faith, and she says, Ava should give him that and more. The woman lucky enough to be in his life shouldn’t hesitate to give him everything she has, everything he needs. She would.  

Carly asks the lab tech if it will be difficult to decipher the DNA results. The tech says, sometimes there are mutations in the results, but the report should draw a clear conclusion based on probability.

Judge Foster asks Willow to confine her answers to her or counsel. She asks if Scotty wants to cross, but Nina says, enough. Scotty says, no further questions, and the judge asks if they’ve both presented their arguments. Diane and Scotty say they have, and the judge says she’ll be ready to issue her ruling within the hour.

Chet says, but his sister, and Terry says, Amy only wants the best for him; so does she. He says he guesses he’ll call the recruiter, and she says, congratulations. He says, if she doesn’t have a date next Valentine’s Day… She tears up, and says, he’ll be her first call.

Spinelli says, there’s nothing to spill. Enjoy the festivities. He tries to leave, but Sam grabs his arm, and says, nice try. He’s not getting off that easy. What’s going on?

Brook approaches Chase, and he asks, how annoyed she is with him on scale of one to really ticked off? She says, funny. She was about to ask him the same thing.

Britt tells Drew, this is pointless. She’s going to her room and going to bed. He asks, since when is she a quitter? She survived her demented half-brother on Cassadine Island and can’t handle an extra hour of mingling? She says, that’s something her mother would say, and he says, Liesl Obrecht is a sharp lady. Maybe when she signed Britt up for this, she was onto something. Society Set-Ups has a great track record. There’s a lot of people here. Not all of them will interest her, but someone might. If she packs it in now and goes home, she may never know what she missed. She says, a half hour; not a minute more.

Laura says she’s noticed since her son has been with Ava, he’s grown as a father, as a husband, and as a man. As his mother, all she wants is for him to be happy and live his best life. She’s always felt he could have that with Ava. Ava says, that’s what she wanted; to live her best life with him. Laura says, if Ava and Nikolas want to reclaim their happiness, they can. She thinks it’s worth fighting for.

Esme says she should be going, and Nikolas says, she’s welcome in his home. She says, Spence wants his trust fund back, and he says, she told him it was over with Spencer. What does she want? She says, to belong, and he says, then stay. She says she knows he’s just being kind; nobody is choosing her. He says, that’s not true, but she says, even her own boyfriend doesn’t want her. He says he wants her… here… now. She says, prove it, launches herself at him, and they kiss. I’m totally grossed out.

Tomorrow, Valentin tells Anna that he always hits his target; Sam asks why Spinelli is desperate to get away from her; and Nikolas says he shouldn’t have done that. Damn right.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Brick and Sonny bro hug, and Sonny says it’s good to see him. He asks how Brick got there so fast from L.A. Brick says he knows a guy, who knows a guy, who has a jet fueled and ready at LAX. When Sonny calls, he’s here. How can he help? Sonny says, there’s been a void in his life for too long that he’s been trying to fill, and Brick says, someone used to fill that void. Sonny says, yeah, Jason.

The guy from Charlie’s comes to Alexis’s office and says, it’s been a long time, Miss Davis. She says, it’s you, and he says she remembers. She says she never forgets a face, especially when it belongs to the man who blamed her for his brother’s death.

Harmony walks into Charlie’s, and sees Nina, who apparently lives there now. Nina asks how it went with Michael and Willow. She saw them, right? Harmony says she did, and Nina asks if Harmony told them that it’s in Wiley’s best interest to visit her. Harmony tells her, she said all that and more, and Nina says, don’t leave her in suspense; what did they say? Harmony says, not what Nina wanted to hear.

Nikolas walks into Windymere’s living room, and says, there’s nothing to fear. You’re safe. Esme and Spencer follow him in, and Esme says, this place is extraordinary. Even the name sounds grand – Windymere. Spencer says, it’s not like she hasn’t been here before, and Esme says, not for months. It’s good to be back. Nikolas says, more important, she’s safe from Sonny and his goons here, and Spencer says, what about the lady of the house? When is he going to loop Ava in?

Ava slips into the courtroom and sits down, as Judge Young is saying, Trina Robinson, you have two counts against you. How do you plead? Trina hesitates, and Scotty starts to talk, but she says she’s got this. She tells the judge that she pleads not guilty, and I say, yes!

Brick says, it’s the perfect time to raise a glass to their gone, but never forgotten, friend… What happened to the bar? No single malt aged twelve years? Sonny says he’s taking a break from that stuff, but the bar’s loaded if Brick wants to go help himself. Brick says, whither thou goest, I will go, and Sonny laughs. They sit down, and Sonny says he was hoping Brick would say that. Brick asks, how he can help fill that void? Is Sonny up for adventure? San Juan? Hong Kong? Marrakesh? Sonny says, not adventure. Monica has declared Jason legally dead, so they’re all going to be going to the memorial service. Brick says, may he rest in peace, and Sonny says, maybe Jason can, but he can’t. Does Brick remember Selena Wu? Brick says he does. Formidable lady. Is she causing Sonny trouble? Sonny says, she gave him advice, something he’s heard already, and Brick asks, what advice? Sonny says, that he can’t run the business alone anymore. He needs somebody else to step up and fill that hole Jason left behind. Brick says, I accept, and Sonny smiles and nods.

Alexis says, Brendan, isn’t it? and he says, it is. She says, the last time they saw each other, it was at Neil’s funeral. Not a very pleasant occasion for many reasons. Alexis flashes back to the funeral, and Brendan telling her, this is a celebration of Neil’s life. Alexis stripped Neil of everything he considered worth living for. He doesn’t want this service tainted with her presence. She’s not welcome. We see her leaving, and in the present, she says, he made his feelings crystal clear. And if it’s any consolation, that moment was devastating to her, and sent her into her own personal hell. He says he heard she lost her law license, hit the booze pretty hard, and didn’t stop until she attacked a cop and went to prison. She says she’s very flattered that he kept up with her life. What does he want?

Nina says, Willow just told Harmony what she thought Michael wanted to hear. Get her alone. She’ll change her mind and let Nina see Wiley. Harmony says she’s sorry. Willow doesn’t think it’s in Wiley’s best interest to have contact with Nina. Nina says, so Michael and Willow want a fight. They’ll get a fight, especially after her run-in with Carly earlier. Harmony asks, what happened? and Nina says she was reaching out to Carly to compromise about Wiley, but she wasn’t having it. Harmony says, she’s going through a rough patch, right? She just got divorced from Sonny? Nina says, Carly filed for that divorce. She pushed it through practically overnight. She threw away Sonny with both hands. Harmony tells Nina, give it some time; let Carly lick her wounds. Give her time to heal. Nina says, if that ever happens. And then what? Wiley will be in college, asking, who’s Nina? and he’ll never know who his birth mother is. If only she knew Nelle was her daughter before Nelle died. She could have saved Nelle from herself, and she wouldn’t have to be begging for a chance to get to know her grandson, or for him to know her.

Nikolas says, they can let Ava know when she gets home. Right now, she’s at Trina’s hearing. Spencer says, right, that was today, and Esme asks if he wishes he was there. He says he’s the last person Trina wants to see, and she says she didn’t ask what Trina would want. Nikolas asks if Esme wants to drop her bags off in the bedroom. It’s the same one as the last time. Spencer says, Nikolas can’t stop Esme from bringing up Trina; she’s obsessed. Esme asks if she doesn’t have reason to be. It doesn’t matter that there’s evidence Trina posted that video of Joss and Cam. Sonny Corinthos still believes it was her. Nikolas says, which is why she’s at Windymere and Spencer is home. And she’s safe. She asks if any place is really safe from Sonny, and Spencer says, Uncle Sonny will do anything and everything to protect his family. She says he means protect them from her, and he tells her, he didn’t say that. She says he didn’t have to. She’ll take her bags up. She leaves, and Nikolas asks why Spencer is treating Esme this way when he invited her to stay here. Spencer says he’s sorry, but Esme pushes his buttons; the way he’s been known to push other people’s. By the way, is there a bomb shelter on the island? Nikolas asks, why? and Spencer says, because he’d like to be inside it when Nikolas tells Ava that he and Esme moved in.

Scotty tells Trina, stick with me, kid. They’ll be sorry they tried to railroad you. ADA Arden says, this was a premeditated act that required a significant amount of planning. The defendant specifically targeted her friends with the intent to cause harm. The state requests bail be set at $250,000. Scotty jumps up, and says, your honor, my client is a freshman in college. She’s not Lizzie Borden. She has ties to the community. She’s innocent until proven guilty. She should be released without bond. Arden says, if the defendant is released without posting significant bail, and access to a computer, she has the capacity to do significant harm. (Huh?) Who knows who else she’s taped? Scotty tells her to save that for her closing statement, if she even gets that far. Judge Young tells Scotty, that will be enough, and tells Arden, there’s no indication the defendant poses a threat to the community. Therefore, the defendant is released without bond. He bangs his gavel, and Scotty dusts off his hands. The judge tells Trina that she’s free to go, pending a trial date to be determined. The bailiff says, court is adjourned, and Portia runs over to Trina, saying, she’s never been more prouder of her. She hugs Trina, and Curtis says, Trina was great. Ava says, may I? and hugs Trina, who thanks her for coming. Ava says she’s so proud of Trina, proclaiming her innocence. Josslyn says, they’ll prove it, no matter what it takes, and she and Trina hug. Trina says, you too, Webber, and Cameron adds to the hug.

Brendan  says he was in pain, and he wasn’t ready to face his brother’s failings, so he lashed out at Alexis; blamed her for Neil’s death. Alexis asks if that’s an apology, and he says, it is. She says she wishes she’d known about Neil’s addiction. She could have helped. But he hid it from her, and she had no clue. He says, she suffered enough. Look at her now. Brand new career, off the booze, respected, productive member of her community. She thanks him for the compliment, and says, he was really hostile to her at Neil’s funeral, so what is it with the sudden attitude adjustment? He says he’s had some bad luck himself; failed marriage, failed business. It brings humility. She says, and the need to make almonds amends? He says, as two people who loved Neil, he hoped they could come to an understanding.

Harmony tells Nina that she’s sorry. Nothing can bring back Wiley’s birth mother, but she has to know that Willow loves that little boy like he’s her own flesh and blood. If Nina gives it some time, maybe Willow can convince Michael that she should see her grandson. Nina asks, how much time? Because this is the same woman Harmony told her thinks she isn’t good for Wiley. She remembers when Willow was Miss Tate, and taught her former stepdaughter Charlotte. She didn’t like Willow then, and she should have trusted her instincts. Harmony says, Willow is highly principled, and Nina says, oh please. Willow says she’s going to help Nina, and the next moment, she pulls a 180 and sides with Michael. She doesn’t have a backbone. She only pretends that she’s compassionate. That weeping Willow is no oak. Harmony says, just because she’s gentle doesn’t mean she’s weak, and Nina says she’s sorry. She knows Willow is Harmony’s daughter. She’s just frustrated. Look how Willow has treated Harmony. She’s barely spoken to Harmony since she got out of prison. Harmony says things are much better between them now, and Nina says, until Michael shuts her down. Then what’s going to happen? She’s incapable of standing up to the man, or Carly. Nina would be better off to ask a stranger for help. Harmony hisses, Willow is no stranger, and she’s just as strong as her mother, but Nina says she’s never going to be as strong as Harmony. Harmony has overcome a lot, and turned her life around. Willow would be lucky to have even one drop of her courage. Harmony says she forgot; she has an appointment. She has to go. She walks out, and I’m starting to wonder if Nina is delusional.

Sonny asks Brick if that’s a serious offer. He could use Brick’s areas of expertise. Brick says, he can definitely help with the logistics, business support, definitely cyber security, but Sonny will need to bring in somebody else as a facilitator. Sonny says he’d trust Brick with his life, and Brick says, trust goes both ways; Sonny knows that. Sonny nods, and says, Jason used to do the day-to-day, but since he passed, Sonny has to deal with the other families, and try to figure out who targeted his stepdaughter. Brick asks if he’s talking about the tape of Josslyn and her boyfriend, and Sonny says, he saw the tape? Bricks says, hell no, but he saw people seeing it. It took every bit of self-control he could muster, not to take every one of them out. (What? Where are people watching this? And where is Brick hanging out?) Brick asks Sonny to please tell him that he found out who did this, and Sonny says he knows who’s responsible. He doesn’t have proof yet, but he put them on notice.

Ava says, congratulations. Scotty has one courageous client, and he says, tell him about it, but she’s got a big fight ahead… He sees Arden, and says, counselor, get used to the judge seeing things my way. Arden says, cyber crimes are insidious. The law is still catching up. The fact is, whatever goes on the internet, stays their forever. His client taped her friends without their knowledge and put it up for the whole world to see. Scotty says, hey Molly, tell your boss here… and Molly says, he can address her as ADA Lansing-Davis. He rolls his eyes, and says, okay, but she can’t really believe Trina did this. She says she believes DA Scorpio offered a generous plea bargain, and it was his obligation as Trina’s attorney to advise her to take it. Arden says, her associate’s right. She should have taken the deal, but she didn’t, so they’re going to trial. She’s going to take a stand for everyone who’s ever had an intimate picture or video weaponized against them. His client might have thought it was no big deal, but she was mistaken, and she’ll go to prison for the full term. She and Molly leave.

Trina thanks Josslyn and Cameron for being here and standing by her. Josslyn says, that’s what friends do, and Trina says, they took back the narrative when they told their story to The Invader. Their courage made her realize she doesn’t need to give in to cyber bullies, to Esme. The world needs to know she’s not the one who hurt them. Scotty says, they’ve got to talk strategy, and Portia says, now? Is that really necessary? Trina’s already been through so much today. He says, that ADA’s out for blood, and Curtis says, the judge hasn’t even set a trial date yet. Trina says, honestly, she just wants to take a long hot bath, and Scotty says, okay, she can do that. Tomorrow, they have a lot of work to do. Trina thanks him, and Curtis says he noticed there were reporters outside in the corridor. They’re going to want a statement, which he doesn’t think any of them should be making. Ava says she knows her way around this courthouse. They can exit this way. Portia tells Trina, let’s go home, and they follow Ava out. Josslyn tells Cameron, if she were her mom, she’d walk out of this courtroom with her head held high. He says, but she’s not her mom; she has nothing to prove. Josslyn says, only to herself, and Smoltz stumbles in. Cameron says, he’s too late; Trina went out the back. Smoltz says, it’s not Trina he wants. It’s Cameron and his girlfriend.

Josslyn says, they already told their stories to The Invader. Read it himself if he can afford the paywall. Smoltz says, he did read it, and Cameron says, then he would know they have nothing else to say. Smoltz says he knows Alexis Davis stole his scoop, and cut him out of the story, and Cameron says, oh boo-hoo. Life’s unfair. Smoltz says, what about their friend Trina? Their story did some good, but what about their friend? Josslyn says, what about Trina? and Smoltz says, did she do it? Did she film them and post it? Cameron says, hell no, and Smoltz asks, how can he be so sure? Do they know who’s responsible? Cameron and Josslyn look at each other, and he says, they do know. They just can’t prove it? Josslyn asks what he wants, and he says, an exclusive. Tell him stuff they didn’t say in the interview, and he’ll help them get the goods on whoever set up their friend. Sound good? Ava comes back, and says, you. Get the hell away from them.

Portia says, welcome home, and asks what Trina thinks. Trina says she liked it when it belonged to Joss’s dad, but she likes it even better now that it’s Portia’s. A safe harbor. Curtis says, good memories? and Trina says, yeah. Six months ago, their biggest problem was opening a jar of Sonny’s marinara sauce. Now everything’s changed. Curtis says, she heard what the lawyer said. They’re going to fight this. Portia says, they’re going to fight this, and they’re going to win. Trina says she told Joss and Cam that their courage gave her courage, but Portia and Curtis’s support helped her out a lot too. Curtis says, they can do a lot more than offer moral support. He could find evidence to exonerate her. He hasn’t forgotten how to find clues in dumpsters and garbage cans. Portia says, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, and Trina says, Spencer’s right. On one hand, there are tons of people who believe in her. Curtis says, and on the other hand? and she says, there’s evidence that proves she did it. Esme made sure of that.

Nikolas tells Spencer, Ava is well-aware of Sonny’s methods when he feels someone has crossed him or his family. She’ll understand the need to protect Esme. Spencer says, but will she understand why he’s sitting across from her at breakfast? and Nikolas says, it’s not a permanent arrangement. If Trina is found guilty, Sonny will have to accept the verdict and back off. Spencer says, even if Uncle Sonny does, he doesn’t think Ava will. Ava loves Trina like a daughter. She’d happily throw Esme to the wolves if it means Trina goes free. Nikolas says, and if Esme is carrying Spencer’s child? Ava may not like it, but she’ll make peace with it. Spencer says, and if Esme’s not pregnant? and Nikolas says, that’s all the more reason for Spencer to find out.

Brick says, so little Spencer has a girlfriend, and Sonny says, he’s not so little anymore. Brick says, Sonny has always liked this kid, and Sonny says, he still does, but not his company. Brick says, Sonny is convinced this Esme Prince is behind the video. Is he sure Spencer didn’t help? Sonny says, Spencer has done some terrible things, but he’s known Josslyn since they were in kindergarten, and Cameron is part of his extended family. He thinks Spencer’s hands are clean. Brick says, so the girlfriend is operating behind his back, and Sonny says, yep. If they can prove Trina is innocent and Esme is guilty, it won’t be just justice for Josslyn and Cameron. It will be a way for Spencer to dump his girlfriend. Brick says he knows Sonny’s got his own people on it, but as always, if Sonny needs him… Sonny says, yeah, he needs Brick, and Brick says, then he’s on it, but in the meantime… Sonny says, what is on his mind? and Brick says, Sonny is always running around looking out for everybody else. Who’s looking out for him?

Scotty goes into Charlie’s, and asks Nina what she wants. He’s very busy. He has a young woman who needs his help, unlike her. She says she’s sorry. She thought she could avoid going to court, and he says she thought she could get somebody to intercede with Wiley’s parents? Somebody like Sonny? But he threw her to the wolves, didn’t he? She says, no, this has nothing to do with Sonny. Her go-between couldn’t really do anything because Willow is so besotted with Michael, she won’t stand up to him or Carly. He says, why would she? Her mother couldn’t even stand up to that snake oil salesman Shiloh. Nina says, he’s not making this easy on her. Can they sit down? He asks, why should he? He kept her out of prison, and she turned her nose up at his legal expertise. So if she wants his help now, he’ll have to hear her say it.

Alexis says she assumes this understanding comes at a price, but Brendan  says, he wouldn’t put it that way. She asks how he’d put it, and he says, she couldn’t have risen from the ashes without help. Is it wrong of him to want the same thing? She says, that depends on what he means by help. Forgiveness? Friendship? He says his brother lost his life by getting involved with a self-destructive alcoholic, and she says, there it is. She was wondering how long he was going to keep up the Mr. Nice Guy act. There’s the door, move toward it, and don’t look back. He says, his brother was never a rich man, and funerals are expensive. She can deny it all she wants, but she contributed to Neil’s death. She needs to make things right. She says she’ll never stop wondering what happened to Neil, and starts to get her stuff together to leave. How he became an addict, and how that addiction took his life. She’s not at all satisfied that’s the truth, but she won’t be browbeaten into paying for his brother’s mistakes. There’s nothing he can say that will make her change her mind. He asks if she’s sure about that.

Alexis says, he needs to leave, but Brendan  says he’s not leaving until he gets what he wants. Harmony walks in, and asks Alexis if she’s early. Alexis says, actually, she’s right on time. Brendan was just leaving. Harmony introduces herself, and he says, Brendan Byrne, Neil’s brother. Harmony Miller. Where does he know that name? Have they met before? Harmony says she doesn’t think so. He might have seen her on TV, in connection with an organization called Dawn of Day. She was pretty notorious back then. Alexis says she and Harmony were just leaving, so if he doesn’t mind… He says, of course (🍷). He’ll send her his contact information. If she sees an opportunity she thinks he might be right for, let him know. He leaves, and Harmony says, what was all that about? Alexis says she doesn’t know, but it was scary.

Sonny says, Brick doesn’t have to worry. He survived all those months in Nixon Falls; he can survive anything. Brick says, but he wasn’t alone, and Sonny asks if he’s talking about Nina. Brick says, yeah. She must be one helluva lady to come between Sonny and Carly. Sonny asks if Brick still has something for his wife, and Brick asks if he doesn’t mean ex-wife. He just admires Sonny’s taste, but he gave up Carly. Brick just hopes this new lady’s worth it.

Nina and Scotty get a drink, and Nina says, okay. He needs to hear her say it. She clears her throat, and says she made a mistake. He says, what? and she repeats it louder. She says, she shouldn’t have pinned all her hopes on Willow’s compassion. Does he feel better? He suggests she hire Martin Grey, that folksy downhome charm works with a few judges. She says she doesn’t need folksy downhome charm. She needs a fighter, a killer, that will leave his opponents bloody in the field. He says, that’s him. However, he’s busy right now with Trina Robinson. Nina says she needs his help, and she’s willing to put him on retainer immediately. He says, before he takes her money, he needs to know she’s going to fight for Wiley, no matter what. And if that means kicking Sonny to the curb, then she’s going to do that.

Trina comes back downstairs, and Portia asks what she thinks. Trina says, great room, and thanks her. Portia says she made it up like Trina’s old room, but she probably wants to get rid of the stuffed animals now that she’s grown up. Trina says, no, never, as all of us who have them past our teenage years would say, but she’s still looking forward to returning to her dorms when this nightmare ends and she proves her innocence.  Then this place is theirs. Portia says, it’s Trina’s home too. And she doesn’t have to be brave. They’re in this together. Curtis says, all of them, and they have a family group hug.

Josslyn says, what part of no way doesn’t Smoltz understand? and Smoltz says, give it up, man. Ava faces him, and says, a journalist like Mr. Smoltz won’t stop until you slam the door in his face, or better yet, on his writing hand. He asks if she hasn’t heard of the first amendment, and she says, it comes right before the second, and I literally lol. Smoltz says, that sounds like a threat, and Ava says she was hoping it would. Cameron says he and Josslyn can handle this, and Josslyn tells Smoltz, they’re not interested in boosting his career. Cameron says, in other words, get lost. Smoltz says, fine; their loss. He stomps to the door, and says, and their friend Trina’s. He slams out, and Josslyn says, this wasn’t Ava’s fight. Ava says, on the contrary. Avery would never forgive her if she didn’t stand up for her sister. Cameron says, that guy had one thing right. Trina’s in deep trouble until they prove she’s innocent. Josslyn says, and Esme’s guilty.

Spencer looks out the window, and Esme tells him, she just got an alert on her phone; Trina pled not guilty. He says he hopes she can prove it, and she says, even if Trina tries to accuse her instead, when she might be carrying his child? He says, let’s find out. Why hasn’t she taken that home pregnancy test yet? She says she’s scared, and he asks if she’s scared that she’s pregnant, or that she’s not?

Harmony says she assumes Brendan was there talking about his brother, and that’s what caused all the tension when she walked in? Alexis says, it was really weird. He shows up all sympathetic, not at all like the guy who heaped abuse on her at Neil’s funeral. Harmony asks if something changed, and Alexis says, he thought the Mr. Nice Guy act would convince her to help bail him out of his troubles. When she refused, he went from Jekyll to Hyde. He thinks she owes him because she caused the relapse that caused Neil’s death. Harmony flashes back to injecting Neil, and says, it was good thing she walked in when she did. Just stay away from Neil’s brother. The farther the better.

Ava tells Josslyn and Cameron, don’t lose any sleep over Esme. The truth will come out. Trina will be vindicated. Cameron says she sounds confident, and Josslyn says, Esme has skated so far… Ava… Ava says she’s spoken to someone who has an interest in seeing Esme punished for targeting the two of  them. Cameron looks at Josslyn, and says, who’s that? Ava says she knows it’s difficult for them to trust her, but this time they’re going to have to. Esme is going to get what’s coming to her. Ava strides out the back way.

Esme says she wants Spencer with her when she takes the test, but she doesn’t need a test to tell her what she really wants. He says, which is? and she says him; she wants to be with him. Does he want to be with her? Don’t answer that now, but ask himself this. If it were without the baby, does her being here work to his advantage? He asks, how? and she says, by driving a wedge between his father and Ava. Isn’t that what he wanted all along?

Sonny tells Brick, he’s taking it day to day. As far as him and Nina, he can’t read into the future, but he will say this. The connection they had in Nixon Falls was real. Brick says, he knows Sonny, and when he wants something, he goes for it, and he usually gets it. Sonny flashes back to him and Nina dancing at Charlie’s, and Brick says, Sonny is thinking about her right now, and Sonny asks if they can get back to the matter at hand. Brick says, the future… without Jason. That’s something they can work on. The future without love, with all due respect, is not for Sonny.

Nina says, Sonny knows she won’t force him to pick sides, but Scotty says, Carly, Michael, and Willow will. So if Sonny has to choose… She says, Sonny is going to do what’s best for his family, and she’s going to do what’s best for hers. He asks if she’s willing to lose lover boy, but she says she won’t lose him. Not if he’s the man she knew in Nixon Falls, and the man she sees in Port Charles. He asks what makes her think she can have it all? and she says, she’s going to have her grandson in her life, and she’s going to have the man who changed her life for the better. He says, sorry, nobody gets it all, nobody, but she says, there’s always a first time.

Sonny says, he and Brick will regroup after Jason’s memorial service. In the meantime, is Brick willing to take on more managerial responsibilities? Brick says he can search for a facilitator to take on some of Jason’s other skill sets; don’t worry about that. Sonny says, okay. He has one more job for Brick. He wants Brick to find out how Esme Prince engineered that video. Brick says, he’s on that; no problem. Sonny asks if Brick wants a drink to seal the deal. Raising his glass, he says, sparkling water. Brick says, to think he’s always admired Sonny, and Sonny says, not anymore? but Brick says, now more than ever, and they clink glasses.

Scotty tells Nina, Michael is out to win, and Diane Miller is a tough cookie. She will dig up whatever she can. Nina says, she understands, and he gets up, asking if there’s anything he needs to know before he files the petition. She tells him, don’t faint, but she thinks her life is pretty much an open book at this point. He says, no little secrets in her diary? No skeletons in her closet? She says, no. Wiley is the only thing left of her daughter in this world. She owes it to Nelle be in his life, whether Michael or Saint Willow like it or not. He says, then hang her hat with him. She won’t regret it. They shake hands, and she says she hopes not.

Alexis says, Harmony never said what brought her by, and Harmony says, it can wait. She’s going to cook Alexis dinner; she’ll make something soothing. Alexis says she could use something soothing. Neil’s brother being here reminds her how horrible Neil’s death was. She can’t help wonder if that eviction is the thing that caused his death. Alexis turns out the lights, and they go to the hallway, but Alexis says  she forgot her phone, and goes back to her desk in the dark. Harmony stands in the doorway, and looks around.

Brendan  looks through a bunch of folders, and finds one that says Harmony Miller. He says he knew that name was familiar.

Trina says, it’s one thing to plead not guilty, but she has to live with that decision. That ADA is obviously out to get her. She couldn’t believe when she said $250,000 bail. Curtis says he believes she was just grandstanding, and the judge ignored her recommendation. Trina says, this time. The ADA thinks Trina’s guilty, and Scotty said she’s out for blood. What if the ADA convinces the jury she’s guilty? Portia says, that’s not going to happen. And instead of dwelling on it, why doesn’t Trina take that nice hot bath she was talking about earlier? It will make her feel better. Trina says Portia talked her into it, and goes upstairs. Portia tells Curtis, she doesn’t know how long she can keep this up. What if Trina’s right? They have no idea what’s going to happen. Curtis says, Trina has a lot of people by her side, and more courage than anyone he knows. Portia says she doesn’t disagree; she has faith in her daughter, just not in the world. Curtis says, as long as they have faith in each other, they can’t lose.

Cameron asks if Josslyn is  ready to go home, and she says, actually, she’d like to go back to the dorms. He says, Trina’s not the only one being brave, and she says, she’s not being brave. She just wants things to go back to normal, if that’s even possible. He says he’ll try to help make that happen, and she thanks him. They kiss, and he says, let’s go. He starts to head to the back, but she says, actually, she’d like to go out the front. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, if she can face a bunch of people on campus, she can face a couple of reporters outside. It’s hard to believe Trina is going to come back here and fight for her innocence. He says, it doesn’t matter what Ava says; this is going to be tough. She says, this is why they need to help Trina. They need to find a piece of evidence that Esme framed her. He asks how they pull that off, and she says, by proving Esme can be in two places at once. She leads him out of the courtroom.

Ava walks into Windymere, calling for Nikolas, and Esme says, he’s upstairs. Ava walks into the living room, where Esme is sitting. She sees Esme is reading What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Drew finds Curtis at the MetroCourt bar and says he sees Curtis started without him. Curtis puts keys on the bar, and Drew says, too far gone to drive already? but Curtis says, they’re house keys. He and Portia just closed on a new place. Drew says, that’s awesome… and deserving of a toast. He tells the bartender to hook him up, and asks Curtis, what’s next? Curtis says, it’s hard to focus on the future when Marshall’s past won’t leave him alone.

At the hospital, Marshall tells Deanna that he’s having issues with his medication and can’t seem to reach his doctor. He was treated there by Dr. Rose some month back. She says she’ll track him down, and Marshall thanks her, saying, he really needs to get the dosage right. He sees Ava and Avery talking with TJ, and Sonny joins them. Sonny asks, what happened? and Ava says, Avery had a fall at the playground. She says her arm hurts. TJ says, it’s nothing they can’t fix, and Sonny tells Avery, he’s known this guy since he was about this big, holding his hand three inches from the floor. TJ says he thinks he was a little taller than that, and Sonny says he watched TJ become a great doctor and he trusts TJ with his life. Ava says, then she guesses they can trust him with Avery’s arm, and TJ says, let’s do it.

Carly tells Josslyn, this is just a conversation, leading her to Alexis’s office. Alexis is going to explain to Josslyn how The Invader is going to tell her story… if that’s the avenue she wants to take. Carly knows Josslyn and Cameron are supposed to meet with the detective afterward, but if that’s not something she wants to do, or if it’s too much… Josslyn says she gets it. She’s been thinking about this all night, so she’s ready. Carly hugs Josslyn and knocks on the door, and Alexis tells them to come in. Cameron and Elizabeth are already there, and Alexis thanks them all for coming. Unless they have any questions, they can jump right in. There are no questions, so she asks them to sit down, and says, let’s get started.

Nikolas goes to Laura’s place, and she asks what brings him by. He says he wondered if she needed any help with Spencer’s homecoming, and she says, there’s not much to do. His room is ready, and she did stop and pick up his favorite madelines from Eckerd’s. He asks if she’s sure that’s it, and she says, he’s only been gone a month. And if she’s being honest, he shouldn’t be coming back here at all. His home is with Nikolas at Windymere.

At Spring Ridge, Spencer puts his cards down, and tells Samuel, gin. It looks like he wins supreme, unless Samuel is letting him win. Samuel says, not his style, when Harmony comes by and asks Spencer if there’s any chance he could spare some time for a fellow inmate. He turns around to see Ryan parked at another table, and she says if he doesn’t want anything to do with Ryan, she completely understands. She’d steer clear of him too if it wasn’t her job. Spencer asks what he wants, and she says, to play a game – Spencer notices a chess board in front of Ryan – and to talk. Spencer says, he can’t talk. That’s what being locked-in means, doesn’t it? She says they’ve developed a work around, and Ryan communicated with her last night. She’s prepared for different directions that the conversation might take. Spencer says, that must have been a lot of blinking, and she says, yeah, but honestly, if he’s not comfortable with it or has reservations… He says, let’s do it. He’s only going to be there for a couple more hours, and quite frankly, he’s gin rummied out. No offense. Samuel says, none taken, and Spencer goes with Harmony over to Ryan’s table. Spencer says, white or black? and Harmony says, Ryan takes black; Spencer makes the first move. Spencer moves a piece, and asks what Ryan wanted to talk about. Harmony tells him, Ryan says, you’re welcome.

Nikolas says he highly doubts Spencer would be on board with living at Windymere, but Laura says, they’ve made some inroads, haven’t they? He says, they’ve made some ground, but pushing Spencer to come home is the surest way to lose it. She says, just bring up the conversation, and they’ll go from there. They need to close ranks. Nikolas doesn’t want to leave Spencer vulnerable to Victor, does he? Nikolas says, no, and she says, that’s where Spencer is going to land if he doesn’t come to Nikolas. And if she’s being completely honest, Spencer’s living situation here can’t go on indefinitely. Esme comes out with her suitcase, and says she agrees, which is why she’s moving out.

Carly says, it has to be made clear that Josslyn and Cameron did not make the video, and they did not release it themselves. Elizabeth says, absolutely, and Alexis says, got it. That goes without saying, but the number one priority is for them to be protected. If they do this, it’s an opportunity to take control and frame the narrative. Having said that, it’s a very big decision, and if they decide they don’t want to do it, fine; it’s up to them. She assumes they must have questions about the process, and Carly says she has many. Elizabeth says, so does she, and Alexis says she’s going to answer all of them, but right now she’s going to ask Elizabeth and Carly to step outside for a bit, because she thinks this conversation might be more productive with fewer participants. Carly tells Josslyn to text if she needs her, and she and Elizabeth leave. Alexis says, okay, let’s hear it.

TJ says, right this way, and Ava says, aren’t they lucky that Dr. Ashford is here today, and that Avery’s father knows him so well? Deanna tells Marshall that Dr. Rose isn’t in today, but she can help him make an appointment for when he is. Marshall watches TJ usher Sonny and company into the exam room.

Curtis asks, how bad is it? and Drew asks if he’s sure he wants to know. Curtis says, is it that bad? and Drew says, not necessarily, but he’s looking at Curtis right now, and it seems like maybe he doesn’t want to know this information. He gets it. Curtis has his father back in his life, something he never thought was going to happen. If Alan Quartermaine walked off the elevator right now, maybe that would be enough for Drew. Maybe he wouldn’t need to know Alan’s faults and failings, and why he made the choices he made. Maybe he’d be happy to know his father in the here now, and just take it from there. Curtis wonders if Drew is saying he should ignore what’s in the envelope, but Drew tells him, he’s saying it’s completely Curtis’s call. He’s just pointing out there’s no shame in considering his father’s presence in his life a gift, and taking that gift, no questions asked.

TJ says, they’ll take some x-rays to make sure, but it looks like a wrist sprain at most, and Avery asks what an x-ray is. TJ says, it’s when they take really cool pictures of what’s inside her, and Ava says, a sprain would be good news; not the end of the world. Avery asks if she’ll still get a lollypop, but TJ says he’s all out of them today. Sonny says he’ll go to the gift shop and get her one, and Avery says, yay. Sonny comes out, and Marshall approaches him. Marshall says he’s finally figured Sonny out. He’s the type who only learns his lesson the second time around. Sonny asks if there’s a problem, and Marshall says he thought he made himself clear at The Savoy. Don’t come at his family. Sonny says he thinks Marshall was wrong about what was happening then, and he’s making a mistake about what’s happening now, but Marshall says, it’s no mistake. He saw Sonny talking to TJ. He’s Marshall’s grandson. Sonny says, TJ also happens to be a doctor, and his daughter was injured on the playground; he’s treating her. Marshall says, this hospital is full of doctors. Find another one please. He don’t want his grandson associating with the likes of Sonny. Sonny says he’d be interested to find out how Marshall is going to enforce that. Excuse him. He leaves, and TJ watches Marshall from the doorway.

At the MetroCourt, Carly asks if Elizabeth knows what she wants, and Elizabeth says, that depends. Is she serving head on a platter? Carly says she will be, when they prove Esme did this. How is Cameron? Elizabeth says, he’s mortified, furious, completely and utterly shaken. Carly says, that sounds about right, and Elizabeth asks how Josslyn is doing. She seems to be holding up really well. Carly says, she’s checking all the boxes; head held high, determined to stand up for herself, but she has to be putting up a front. Elizabeth says, how could it not be? and Carly says she doesn’t care how tough you are, when you’re called a tramp and a slut, it takes its toll. She didn’t want this for Josslyn. She wanted Josslyn to be who she is, confident and strong, come out swinging if need be. Why did this happen? Elizabeth says she doesn’t know, but she can tell Carly this; Josslyn’s going to be okay. Carly asks how she can be so sure, and Elizabeth says, Josslyn’s got Carly.   

Josslyn says, once it’s established that this tape was made and posted without their consent… Alexis says, which is illegal. She can’t stress that enough. Revenge porn and filming someone without their consent is a misdemeanor and felony respectively. Josslyn asks if there will be any mention of Esme, but Alexis says, they can only make general references to a person who’s unnamed, thought to be responsible. Without any evidence from the PCU or the police, any allegations made to a specific wrongdoer if libelous. Josslyn asks, what about mentions of her and Cam? and Alexis says, typically pseudonyms are used in cases like this. Cameron says, that won’t stop other papers from using their names, and Alexis says, given how young they are, respected news organizations will most likely follow their lead and not identify them. Cameron says, what about the non-respected ones? They’re going to be all over this because Joss is Sonny’s stepdaughter. Josslyn says, if their real names are out there, why even use the pseudonyms? Maybe they just start with their real names. Cameron says, or maybe they don’t do this at all.

Esme says, she vacuumed, made the bed, and scoured the bathroom. It will be like she was never here. Nikolas says, Spencer will be heartbroken to come home and find her gone, and he’s guessing she’ll feel the same way. Esme says she just doesn’t know, and Nikolas suggests she stay until Spencer gets here, and they can decide on the next step together. Laura asks him to go pick up Spencer. Then she and Esme can have chance to talk, just the two of them. He tells her, work her magic, and leaves. Laura says, it’s just the two of them now, and asks Esme to tell her what’s really going on.  

Spencer asks what he’s supposed to be grateful for, and speaking for Ryan, Harmony says, Spencer and his girlfriend exploited his name and reputation, using it to further their own; ends that saw Ava hurt. He didn’t stop them. Spencer asks why he should have. Ryan’s name entered the public domain ten murders ago. Harmony moves a chess piece, and says, and it was all for nothing. Ava and Nikolas are still together, and Spencer is out in the cold, abandoned even my his own girlfriend. Spencer moves a piece, and says he should have spent the last hour doing pottery, and Harmony says, it doesn’t have to be this way. Spencer still has one friend. Spencer asks who? and Harmony as Ryan says, me.

TJ says, it’s a mild sprain. Avery will need an elastic bandage and some ice. Sonny comes in, and says, and this, giving Avery a lollypop. TJ says he’ll get Nurse Deanna to wrap it up for her; she’s the best in this business. Sonny says, don’t tell Epiphany, and TJ says, the best in the business after Epiphany. Ava says, smart guy, and Sonny thanks him for checking Avery out. TJ says, anytime, and asks if he can talk to Sonny for a quick second. As they leave, Ava says, Avery got watermelon. Avery’s dad knows it’s her favorite. She’s a lucky girl. In the hallway, TJ says he saw Sonny with his grandfather. Is everything okay? Sonny says, he has no problem with Marshall, and TJ tells Avery to take care of that arm, and leaves. Ava says she has an idea. After Avery is patched up, why don’t they head to Kelly’s for some ice cream? Avery asks, can Mama Carly come too?

Marshall tells Deanna that he doesn’t like to mess around with this stuff. Is there someone else he can see besides Dr. Rose? TJ says, someone like him?

Curtis says Drew is right. He does want his father in his life. If it was just him, he could probably go on not asking another question. Drew says, but he’s also asking for Portia and Trina, and Curtis says, and for TJ and Aunt Stella. How can he, in good conscience, open the door to his life, and let Marshall in without knowing what’s going to follow him inside? Drew says, sounds like Curtis made up his mind, and Curtis says he can’t look the other way. He has to know everything about that man before he lets Marshall come any closer. Drew slides the envelope over, and Curtis opens it.

Spencer tells Ryan, he thinks he’s all set on friends, but thank you. Harmony sighs, and says, we’re on the same team. Neither of us wants your father with Ava, but only one of us still has the power to act. Will you use it? She moves another piece, says, checkmate, and Nikolas walks in.

Laura says Esme was right; everything was absolutely spotless. Esme says Laura almost sounds disappointed, and Laura says she likes an easy call. She thought she had Esme all figured out. She actually thought Esme was bad for Spencer, and it was only a matter of time before he figured it out. Esme says, and bye-bye Esme, and Laura says, yes, but that’s not what happened. Esme and Spencer became even closer, and she saw Esme encourage Spencer to reconcile with his father. As it turns out, Esme is by no means an easy call. Esme asks if Laura is saying she was wrong about her.

Josslyn says, so Cameron doesn’t want to do the article? and Cameron says he just wants them to consider all their options before going public. She says, they’re already public; that’s kind of the whole point. He says, if they keep talking about it, everyone is going to keep talking about it. If they stay quiet, maybe it will blow over. She says, that’s easy for him to say. He’s big man on campus. Meanwhile, she’s being tagged as a slut on social media. He says, that’s not what he meant. He knows this is harder on her, he really does. Alexis says she’s not doing this feature to make money. She’s doing it because she thinks it can do some real good, but they both have to be on board. If they decide that the downside is too great, she fully understands. This is a really hard thing to do. She’ll follow their lead, and in the meantime, give them some time to talk about it.

Elizabeth says. she used to consider herself lucky that she only had boys, and Carly says, she never dreamed of a little girl? Elizabeth says, the thought terrified her. She convinced herself that if she had a little girl, she’d have to build walls around her and put her in bubble wrap. Carly says, don’t think she hasn’t tried, and Elizabeth says, anything to protect her so she wouldn’t get hurt. Carly says, like Elizabeth did? and Elizabeth says, that night changed everything for her, but now that she has Violet in her life, she realizes she had it all wrong. She hopes Violet is raised the same way Carly raised Josslyn, to be a strong, fierce, proactive young woman. Yes, she just paid Carly a compliment. Carly says she thought her ears were playing tricks on her, and Elizabeth says, they’ve had their differences, but Carly did a helluva job raising her daughter.

Laura says, how about if they say Esme’s shown so much growth, she’s reconsidered her initial evaluation? but Esme says, unfortunately, it’s a little too late. Laura asks if things are really that bad with Esme and Spencer. She finds it so hard to believe. Esme asks, why? and Laura says she can see Esme’s opinion holds weight with him. He listens to her and takes her words to heart. She knows Spencer adores Esme; she’s seen the way he looks at her. Esme asks if Laura has seen the way he looks at Trina, and Laura says, okay. Now she understands. Esme says, it’s been that way since the moment she met Trina. She was looking for Spencer at Windymere, and she found him alone with Trina. It was obvious she was interrupting something. At first, she chalked it up to her own insecurity, but now it’s too obvious to ignore. The person she crossed an ocean for, the only guy she’s ever loved, has fallen for someone else. Now she’s leaving Spence behind before he and his friends leave her with nothing.

Harmony says, Ryan would like to know if Spencer would like to play another game, but Nikolas walks over, and says, today’s the big day. Is Spencer ready? Spencer says he’s never been readier, if that’s a word. They step away from the table, and Nikolas asks where his grandmother is. Nikolas says, she’s waiting for him at her place. He gestures toward Ryan, and says, what is that? Spencer says, with Ryan? He’s just killing some time, but Nikolas says, nothing is ever that simple with Chamberlain. Spencer says, Ryan is just trying to get inside his head, and Nikolas asks if he’s all right. Spencer says, he’s fine. Grandmother’s at home; what about Ava?

Ava says, Avery hasn’t seen a lot of Carly lately, has she? She doesn’t know if Carly is available, but she can call and ask. Sony says, if Carly isn’t free, they can schedule a playdate. He knows there have been a lot of changes, but one thing that will always stay the same is, her parents – all three of them – and her brothers and sisters will always love her… to the end of the galaxy. Avery says, promise? and he kisses the top of her head, saying, he promises.

Marshall thanks TJ for the offer, but he’s okay. TJ asks if he’s sure; he sounded a little put out. Deanna says, Dr. Ashford knows his stuff, and TJ says he appreciates that. He asks if Deanna can wrap Avery’s wrist; she has a mild sprain. She goes to the exam room, and TJ says, she’s right. He does know his stuff. Marshall says he sounded put out, but it’s his fault. He should have called before he came. TJ says, or maybe Marshall’s not upset because he couldn’t see his doctor. Maybe he’s upset because Sonny got under his skin.

Elizabeth says she has to admit, in the beginning she was rooting for Cameron and Trina to get together, and Carly says, as opposed to Cameron and Josslyn? Elizabeth says she was just worried Josslyn might be… Carly says, too much like her? and Elizabeth says, now she realizes Josslyn is exactly who she wants Cameron to be with. She’s smart, independent, fiercely loyal to the people she cares about. Carly says, and Cameron isn’t afraid of Josslyn’s fierceness, and Elizabeth says, the opposite; he’s drawn toward it. More than that, he respects it. Carly says, if they’re throwing around compliments, she has some. Cameron is a great kid, and he respects women because Elizabeth taught him to. Elizabeth says, it’s ironic. Respect hasn’t always been her thing. Carly knows that better than anyone else. We flash back to when they were practically teens, and Elizabeth calling Carly the town whore, and Carly slapping her, saying hypocritical slut Elizabeth got pregnant on purpose.  Elizabeth says, Carly was right. She was a hypocrite, judging Carly when she was no saint herself. Carly says she could have taken the high road a few times, but she didn’t, and it’s highly unlikely she will in the future.

Cameron says, everything has been moving so fast, he’s had no time to think about it, and Josslyn says, really? She feels like that’s all she does. And guess what? They don’t have the power to slow it down. They’ve already gotten email requests for comments from the PCU paper. Does he think it will stop there? He says, it could. Maybe if they both keep their heads down, something will come along to take the attention away from them. She says, then what? He heard Alexis. What happened to them was a crime, and sitting in the dark hiding just makes her feel like more of a victim, and she doesn’t want that. And she doesn’t want people to think she’s ashamed because she’s not. They didn’t do anything wrong. They had sex because they love each other. She loves him. He says he loves her too, and she says she’s not going to let Esme and some internet creepers turn it into something ugly. He says, he doesn’t want her to get hurt, but she says she’ll hurt more if she doesn’t stand up for herself. So will he stand up with her? Alexis knocks, and says there’s someone she wants them to meet. She introduces Alicia Giago, one of their best reporters. She doesn’t mean to pressure them, but they’re reaching a deadline for tomorrow’s issue. If they want to stay ahead of the story, the story has to be in said issue. Have they reached a decision?

Esme says, to Spence’s friends, she’s toxic, and they’ve finally convinced him to agree, and Laura says, so she’s leaving? Esme says she refuses to stick around for scapegoat duty, and Laura says, even if it means giving up Spencer? Esme asks what Laura would do in her position. Fight to hold to a guy who’s into someone else? Laura says she’d have to think twice, and Esme says she bets Laura never had to. She bets Laura has always been first in the eyes of the ones she’s loved. Esme is lucky if anyone sees her at all. Spence did, but not anymore. Laura says she doesn’t know that, but Esme says she does. Laura asks if she’s 100% certain, and Esme doesn’t say anything. Laura says, no? Okay. Esme asked what she’d do in her position. She thinks she’d want to know if it was really over before she walked away. Esme says she doesn’t even know why they’re discussing this. Why would it make a difference to Laura whether she’s with Spence or she isn’t? Laura says, actually, it makes more difference than Esme knows.

Nikolas tells Spencer that Avery had a playground accident, and Ava decided to take her to the hospital. Spencer asks how bad Avery is hurt, and Nikolas says, Ava doesn’t think it’s serious, but she wants to make sure. Spencer says, it’s good Ava is focused on Avery, so she won’t be focused on torturing him. Nikolas says, Spencer… and Spencer says, they can’t forget Ava is in charge of his restitution. Nikolas says, let’s not start out this way, and Spencer says, what way? but Nikolas says, Spencer knows what he means. They haven’t even left this place, and already they’re at odds over Ava. Spencer asks, when are they not? and Nikolas says, walking out those doors doesn’t erase everything. Spencer has a lot of work ahead to make up for the pain he caused. He needs all the allies he can get. Spencer says, so he has to toe the line, or Nikolas and Ava will cut him loose? He’s been there; he’s done that. Nikolas says he wishes Spencer could see his release the way he does. It’s an opportunity for a fresh start, for all of them. Spencer glances at Ryan, who blinks once, and he tells Nikolas, let’s just focus on us. They can worry about the subject of Ava later. Nikolas says he’ll take what he can get. They’ll get him processed and out of here. He leaves, and Spencer follows, stopping to look at Ryan.

Elizabeth says, the name calling they did seems worse now, doesn’t it? and Carly says, in light of what the kids are going through, it seems like the universe is dishing out some serious karma. They said some nasty things to each other, and she feels like Joss and Cam are paying the price. Elizabeth says she just feels like they’re being tested, and where she and Carly failed as young adults, they’ll succeed. Carly says Elizabeth sounds confident, and Elizabeth says she is. Because she and Carly raised some fundamentally decent humans. It’s not going to protect them from getting hurt… Carly says, no, but it will give them the tools to handle it, and Elizabeth says, exactly. They’re going to take what’s thrown at them and keep on going. Carly says, just like they did. Hopefully, with less drama. Elizabeth says, way less.

Ava says she takes it there was a little hiccup with Sonny and Curtis’s father, and Sonny says she doesn’t miss a beat. She says she’s tuned to his moods, and he says, it wasn’t a hiccup, just a communication problem. Ava says, not on his part though. She says this because she heard he was communicating quite a bit on Nina’s behalf. He says, on Wiley’s behalf, and she says, whichever. It’s a side she’s not often privy to; optimistic and sociable. She likes it. It’s becoming, and she hopes she sees more of it. He smiles.

Marshall says, he’s crossed paths with men like Sonny before, and TJ says, then he should know, Sonny’s no one to mess with. Marshall says, TJ seems pretty chummy with him, and TJ says, they go way back. Sonny was there for him when he really needed him. Marshall says he bets Sonny loves to remind TJ of it too, but TJ says, it’s not like that. Marshall says, not yet, but the Sonnys of the world never forget a favor given, and Lord knows, they always collect on a favor owed. Don’t mistake his generosity for genuine friendship.

Curtis looks at some papers, and Drew says, it’s a lease dated September of 1986 for a one-bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires. They were never digitized, so a conventional background check wouldn’t have caught it because it’s a foreign document. Curtis says he never thought his father lived outside the U.S., and Drew says, the only reason his people caught it is because Aurora’s big enough that it vets international. Curtis says, so his father lived outside the country, and Drew says, but it’s who he lived as that surprised him. Check out the name on the agreement. Curtis says, Marshall Ashford. If he was in Witness Protection, wouldn’t he have an alias? Drew says, maybe he got sloppy? and Curtis says, or maybe he was never in Witness Protection. I have to mention, not once did Marshall ever say he was in Witness Protection. Curtis just assumed it.

Josslyn and Cameron go to the MetroCourt. Josslyn tells Elizabeth and Carly, they heard what Alexis had to say, and they agree with it. Elizabeth says, so they’re doing the story? and Cameron says, they did the story. Josslyn says, they already spoke to the reporter. They’re not hiding; they’re going to stand up for themselves. Carly says, good for both of them, when a woman approaches the table. She introduces herself as Detective Lopez from the PCPD, and asks if Josslyn and Cameron ready to give their statements. Cameron nods, and Josslyn says, they’re ready. They follow the detective out.  

Alexis says, this is actually coming together, and Alicia says, at the speed of light. Alexis says she’s really proud of Josslyn and Cameron. This was a tough decision. So it’s their job to make sure they don’t regret it.

Curtis says, so if his father wasn’t in Witness Protection, but was on the run, his claims of having a dangerous past don’t count for much. Drew says, maybe Witness Protection services doesn’t extend abroad, but Curtis says, he’d still have an alias though. Providing he ever had one in the first place. Drew says, so Curtis got this information, now what is he going to do with it?

Marshall tells TJ to stay away from Sonny. If he keeps sniffing around, let him know. TJ says, if he ever has any problems with Sonny, he will. He leaves, and Marshall looks at his prescription bottle. He turns, and Avery slams into him, causing him to drop it. It rolls toward Sonny, who stops it with his foot.

Harmony says, next time Ryan wants to play mind games with someone, find himself another lackey. She has enough trouble in her own life. He blinks a bunch of times, and she says, what is it? He blinks some more.

Marshall asks if Avery is all right, and Ava apologizes. Sonny picks up the bottle, and Marshall holds out his hand, saying, he’ll have that back now. Sonny hands it to him, says, see him soon, and leaves with Ava and Avery.

Harmony reads, don’t worry. One day I’ll free you from your service the only way I know how. Yikes.

Laura says, under normal circumstances she’d step back and let Spencer and Esme work out their problems, but these are not normal times. It’s very clear Victor is up to no good, which will most certainly blow back on her son and grandson. Whatever issues they’re having, she knows Esme really cares about Spencer, and right now, he needs everybody he can get in his corner, and especially the ones who have sway with him. Esme says, so if she can help keep Spence away from Victor, Laura will overlook her issues? What happens if she’s not willing to overlook Spence’s? Nikolas and Spencer come in.

Tomorrow, Willow tells Michael that she wasn’t being honest with him; Ava tells Victor that when she wants something, she usually gets it; and Nina tells Sonny that she was following up on something important.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

When we last left, Gina and Shannon were having a private discussion at Jen’s party. Shannon said she was still reeling from Gina asking if she even had friends. She’d invited Gina so many different places; where had Gina invited her? Gina said she was going to invite Shannon to her launch party, but now she didn’t know if she wanted to. Shannon said now Gina was holding her invitation hostage, but Gina said she hadn’t invited anyone anywhere because her life had been trashed. In her interview, Shannon said, when one person had to do all the work, the friendship was one-sided, but that was just her opinion. Gina said she was bothered by Shannon bringing her up to different people in different situations, telling them that she’d gotten Gina a lawyer. Shannon said, but she had, and Gina told Shannon that she was thankful, but it had been three years ago. In Shannon’s interview, she said, if someone had helped her when she’d been arrested for a DUI, she’d thank them all the time, but she didn’t need thanks. That feeling you had at about 9:04 pm was me rolling my eyes so hard it vibrated the world. Heather told Emily, the day she met Gina, Shannon brought up Gina’s DUI and her divorce. We flashed back to Shannon telling Heather all about it in a limo, and Gina thanking Shannon for saving her. Gina told Shannon, it wasn’t cool to keep telling people Gina was egotistical. It was starting to feel mean. Shannon said she’d been nothing but kind to Gina, and Gina said Shannon wasn’t doing it to be kind, but to self-promote. Shannon wanted to write her own hero story about herself. Shannon told Gina that she really did need to put a pin in it. This could possibly replace clip in the Bravoverse catch-phrase dictionary. Emily told Heather that Shannon said Gina had an over-inflated sense of self and was arrogant, and Heather said Shannon didn’t understand the phrase put a pin in it. It meant it should be discussed later. Gina said she was sorry she felt good about herself. Does Shannon want her to hate herself? Shannon said the funniest part was that she was so busy, in good ways, with the kids, her personal relationship, and her business, and Gina was saying she was jealous. There was no arrogance in that? Gina said she felt bad for Shannon, and had nothing but pity for Shannon’s life. She wasn’t doing this anymore. She got up, and Shannon said she hoped Gina got to her level one day. Gina said maybe one day she’d make it after all over. She was done. Gina walked away, but Shannon followed, telling her to put a pin in her ego, and calling her an a-hole. Gina asked if Shannon was f***ing kidding her, but wisely kept walking. In Gina’s interview, she said, in general, Shannon was naturally selfish. She had to work at being excited for Gina.

Gina told Heather that Shannon hoped Gina got to her level one day, and in Heather’s interview, she wondered, if Shannon was so happy, why did she have to keep expressing she was so happy? Are you happy? Heather asked Shannon what was going on, and Shannon said, Gina claimed she was jealous of Gina’s friendship with Heather. Heather said, Gina felt Shannon wasn’t supportive. Heather had been excited about the New York trip, and when Shannon called, she thought Shannon was going to ask how the show went, but it was none of that. She was calling about having more fun than Heather and Gina. In Shannon’s interview, she said, Heather was going to come at her for not bringing up her podcast? She didn’t know Heather’s schedule, and was never going to. Noella said, there was a vibe at dinner, and Heather walked away, since she couldn’t finish her sentence. In her interview, she said, every time Noella was around, Noella couldn’t stop talking. She had to interject her opinion, even if it didn’t involve her. Jen kept giving people suggestions for procedures using a laser pointer, and in her interview, she suggested someone take it away from her before the party cleared out. Shannon told John that Gina said she had nothing but pity for Shannon’s life, and he said, f*** Gina. It was the most ridiculous comment he’d ever heard. They were done with Gina. Who TF did she think she was? Jen asked Ryne if what she said had been understandable, and he told her, it should be a TED talk.

Heather asked to speak with Shannon in private, and said, Shannon understood how hurtful labels could be if they were inaccurate. Shannon whined that Gina had done that multiple times, and Heather pointed out that Shannon had done that to her. Shannon had said Heather was pretentious, among other things. This put Shannon into can-you-top-this? mode, and she said Heather talked about her too. Like when Heather said Shannon was angry walking out of a restaurant. We flashed back to said anger, and Heather saying Shannon scared her. Shannon said, Heather had also claimed she was yelling when she wasn’t, but Heather wanted to get back to the topic at hand. Shannon didn’t and said, she got it; labels were bad. She felt blindsided and wanted to go home. Heather said she was trying to have an honest conversation, and Shannon said she’d been nothing but a supportive friend. In Heather’s interview, she said, when you had to tell people how they felt, there was a problem. I’m the best friend you ever had. Can’t you tell? At the end of the day, you show people who you are. You don’t tell them.

Noella had a session with Kate, a teacher of conscious relationships. In Noella’s interview, she said Kate was her soul’s translator. Noella was a manifester, and there was a block. She made a list of all the alternative whatevers she’d been involved with – which was a lot – and said she’d done all of it. Kate asked where things were standing, and Noella said, anger was the feeling du jour. Kate explained that it was the ending of some dreams, the ending of a chapter of life Noella thought she would live. It went along with the trauma of abandonment, and if we couldn’t find where the cycle began, we’d repeat it. Noella said her father bailed on her early. She saw him twice year, and felt if she got straight A’s, or if she was perfect and beautiful, if she didn’t mess up, he would love her. In Noella’s interview, she said she saw her father for events when he needed to look like a family man. Kate asked if Noella had wondered if he was coming back, and Noella said, 100%. In her interview, Noella said she was programmed to make a man look perfect. She told Kate that her dad had sickle cell issues. She told him that he’d been a great father, and they’d rekindled their relationship. Kate said Noella needed to find peace in acceptance; open up to what was new and she’d manifest. Noella said, it was all on her. She was the one who put men on a pedestal. Kate said Noella had been seeking validation and attention in love because she hadn’t received it from her dad. She asked where Noella thought she could seek what she couldn’t find in someone else, and Noella said she had to give it to herself. Kate said, it was cliché, but there were clichés for a reason. This actually didn’t seem much different than regular talk therapy except for words like manifest.

Emily went to Gina’s house, and Gina said something had been literally haunting her since the sweat lodge. We flashed back to that, and Gina said she felt she needed an element of God. Emily asked if an exorcist was coming, but Gina said it was called an extraction. Emily put her hood up, afraid something might attack her, and Shauna arrived to do Gina’s healing. Gina told Shauna that they’d gone to a sweat lodge, and went through an indigenous ritual, but they never finished it. We flashed back to Noella passing out, and Shauna said Gina didn’t get closure, but there was an opening for her to bring something home. In Gina’s interview, she said just the thought of that was gross. Shauna said she’d have to pull it out of Gina’s mouth, and had Gina sit in a chair. In her interview, Gina said she hated this, and hadn’t declared it in customs. Shauna had her breathe in and out, and threw some invisible things out the window. This was officially the dumbest sh*t I’ve ever seen. In Emily’s interview, she said she should have worn a hazmat suit. She and Shauna examined Gina’s eyes, which Shauna pronounced more clear. Emily said they seemed to be lighter in color, and in her interview, Emily hoped whatever it was wasn’t in her car, since she’d parked across the street. Gina told Emily that she have cleared before she had the sit-down with Shannon.

Heather stopped by Jen’s office to get some cream for an allergic reaction, and to tell Jen that her event was lovely. Jen said she felt like it served its purpose, but she should have done the speech earlier. Heather said Terry was in love with Mr. Puppers (me too!), and we saw a clip of him giving the Puppers kissies. Heather said Terry wanted one, but he wasn’t getting it, and Jen said she wanted a pack of them (me too!).  

Emily looked at an Airbnb on her laptop, and called Shannon to show her the house. In Emily’s interview, she said they needed a change of scenery, and we saw a clip of her telling Gina that Cabo was too hot. Gina said, no more beaches. Emily told us that maybe the mountains and country would inspire them to get along. In Heather’s interview, she said she was excited about going to Aspen, but was concerned about some of the other women. Emily asked if Shannon had talked to Gina, and Shannon said she’d reached out, and they were going to get together tomorrow. Emily said she saw Gina a couple of days ago, leaving out the whole extraction thing, and she felt Gina was more reasonable, and admitted she’d said some mean things to Shannon. Emily thought they should celebrate Gina’s success, and in Shannon’s interview, she said she thought Emily was enjoying their growing friendship, and didn’t want any animosity between her and Gina. But if that’s what she wanted, she had to stop stirring the drama and stop misconstruing things about her from Gina.

Emily was having a dinner party for Shane’s family, and Chef Dusty did the cooking. Emily said she couldn’t even make chicken nuggets in the oven, and we saw a clip of her with chicken nuggets so burnt they could have been charcoal nuggets. She said she liked the microwave, and I totally understood. In Emily’s interview, she said, as an adult, we created the family we always wanted. It was difficult growing up with no father, and raised by a single mom with no money. We flashed back to Emily saying that everything she’d done, she’d done because she needed to prove herself worthy. She told us, as a mom, you want more for your children than you had; a safe, healthy, secure home, a mom and dad that care about each other. She told their guests that they always did a theme for their family photos, and this year they were doing a wedding photo. In her interview, she said they’d gotten married in Vegas, and Shane’s youngest was two. She’d had a tantrum, and there were no photos. She thought vow renewals were cursed, and we flashed back to Vicki, Shannon, and Braunwyn’s ceremonies. Shane pointed out that his sister Shireen did it and they were still married. In her interview, Emily said she’d wanted to do a vow renewal, but she and Shane weren’t good at the ten year mark. We flashed back to that, and she said they’d been through the trenches. She told everyone that she was starting a new trend, wedding photo redo. They toasted to family, and a long, happy life.

Noella and mom Nancy talked while Noella was doing her makeup. In Noella’s interview, she said they’d gotten the sad news that her father had passed away. He was in the home he loved in Hawaii, and was alone. They’d received a letter from his executor saying he’d passed. She told Nancy that he’d have preferred it that way to being in a hospital hooked up on machines. Nancy said he’d never gotten to meet his grandkids, and in her interview, Noella said she wished her son had gotten to meet her father. She didn’t have many regrets, but she regretted that. She could have made it happen, but she was protective, She was scared her father would hurt her kids the same way he’d hurt her. She cried, and said, in hindsight, she wished she could have worked through that.

It was time for Gina’s launch party for CaraGala, and she and friend Tatiana got their makeup done. In Gina’s interview, she said Tatiana was happy to see her success. We saw a clip of Tatiana telling Gina that she was proud of her, and it was special that it was happening at her house. Gina thanked Tatiana for extending her home, and Tatiana said everything in Gina’s life was good. Gina said there was only one thing she was nervous about – Shannon. Shannon wrote out a card for Gina, saying she wished Gina nothing but complete success. Gina told Tatiana, if Shannon could table it and show up for her, it would make her a bigger person. Tatiana wondered if Shannon could make it through the whole night, and Gina said it depended on much time she spent at the bar. There was an amazing spread, champagne, and tchotchkes, In her interview, Gina said looking around at all the people who love and want to support her put things in perspective. Her parents came in from out of town, and Travis was there. Matt and Britt would have come, but they had all the kids. Heather gifted Gina with the cutest Chanel makeup bag that was a memory of their trip, and Gina said Heather’s friendship meant a lot. Emily told Noella that she was so sorry, and explained to Heather than Noella’s father had died. Ryne did not bring Mr. Puppers, which was disappointing. There was a portrait of Gina on display, and Gina said if Shannon wanted to put a pin in it, it was a large bullseye.  We saw a clip of Gina on the phone to Shannon, saying she’d like Shannon there if she could be supportive. If she felt that was something she wanted to do and could do, she’d love to have her. She told Emily and Tatiana, it wasn’t like she enjoyed hurting people’s feelings; she recognized she’d said some mean things. They agreed it wasn’t Gina’s style, and Emily said they all had their bad moments. Noella thanked Emily for her text, and we saw Emily had said if Noella wanted to go to the funeral, she’d go with her. There were lots of congratulations.

Shannon arrived bearing a gift, which I might be tempted to check for a boobytrap. Gina said she wasn’t sure if Shannon would come, but Shannon said she was a loyal friend. Gina opened the gift, and it was a glass butterfly, which Shannon said was lucky; it was symbolic. Heather told Noella that she was sorry to hear about her father, and Noella said he meant so much to so many people. His family was from Carmel, so she wanted to do something there. Heather gave a toast to him, and Noella thanked Jen for the flowers, adding that Jen still had her blocked on Instagram. In Jen’s interview, she said she wouldn’t let history get in the way of her sympathizing with Noella about her father dying, but she didn’t need tagging on Instagram. Gina’s mom thanked Shannon for getting Gina that lawyer three years ago, and in her interview, Shannon said she’d done something nice; she wasn’t crazy. Like the two were exclusive. Heather told the women that she and Terry were taking a trip to Cabo, where they were going to just eat, drink, and have hotel sex. Jen says she and Ryne had hotel sex last night, and all the women high-fived Ryne, even though he didn’t know why.

It was time for Gina’s speech, and she said, it was special to have everybody around her. The last few years had been very hard, and pouring self into CaraGala gave her a sense of purpose. She appreciated Travis supporting and loving her through everything. In her interview, she said she didn’t think she’d feel this whole if Travis hadn’t been a supportive, loving partner. Part of the reason she had confidence was because he helped put her back together. And he was from Orange County; she never would have thought it. A cake with giant sparklers came out, and Emily said she wanted Gina to look in the mirror every day, and say she was a badass boss bitch, because she was. Gina said she was glad they were all here, and Jen said she’d nailed it.

Five days later. Shannon said she didn’t know if Gina really wanted to get along with her, and Gina said she was making an effort. In Heather’s interview, she said, never in her wildest dreams did she think she was about to go to Crazytown.

Next time, the trip to Aspen, Heather tells Noella to shut up, Noella accuses Heather of putting her hands on a crew member, Emily asks why Shannon says negative things about Gina, Shannon questions Emily’s friendship, and Noella is fighting for her sanity.

🐱 Sadly, Andy Cohen told us on Watch What Happens Live tonight, that Dina Manzo’s cat Grandma Wrinkles had passed away. He talked about one of his favorite moments, on the sole WWHL New Year’s Eve show, when Grandma Wrinkles got married to Giggy. He showed a clip, and perhaps even more sadly, I remembered watching that as being one of my favorite New Year’s Eves. I even took pictures.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

For the first time this week, Peter does not lie at the bottom the stairs, blood pooling around his head.

Maxie gets out of bed, and puts on a robe. She looks out her room window and sees Brook with Louise. Brook holds Louise up so Maxie can see her, and Maxie comes out of her room. Valentin comes along, and says, that’s… Brook says, their little girl. He says, my daughter, and she says, yeah. Maxie watches.

Britt comes down the stairs of the lighthouse in the dark, holding a bat or a paddle or something. The front door opens, but as she’s about to swing, she sees Obrecht. She says, mom, and Obrecht says, hello, liebchen.

Olivia finds Jax in the living room. He apologizes for the late visit, and says he was trying to get ahold of Michael. He heard shots had been fired at the docks, and hoped Michael wasn’t caught up in all that. She says, Michael is fine. Willow just called to check in. Their plan was to come in late, grab Wiley, and go to the gatehouse. Good thing that kid sleeps like a log. He says, good to hear, and asks how Wiley is. She says, that kid is great. She swears, he learns something new every day. Jax says, and Nina is missing all of it.

On the phone at the jail, Carly tells Michael that she’s with Jason. She’s trying to get Diane to work her magic, and get the DA’s office to formally drop the charges. Michael says, it should be pretty straightforward, now that Gladys has recanted her statement, and said it was Peter she saw, not Jason. She says she hopes so, and he says he’s just glad she’s okay, and Jason doesn’t have to run anymore. She says, her too, and he asks if there’s any word on Cyrus. She says, not yet, but it’s only a matter of time before Jordan finds him.

Jordan wants the SWAT team to go in, but Doc asks her to let him try calling once more. She asks if he thinks he can get through to Cyrus, and he says, it’s worth a shot. Laura hasn’t used the code word yet. She must still think she can make some headway. Jordan tells him, okay; one more try.

The phone rings, and Laura tells Cyrus, he’s the one who’s in control. He can decide to let everyone walk away from this completely unharmed, like he decided to let Portia and Trina go. He says, that damn ringing, and goes over to the phone. She says, just pick it up; tell them what he wants.

Curtis asks Trina where her mother is, and Trina says, she’s giving her statement to the police. He says, then he’s going to need Trina’s help.

Valentin asks if the baby is all right, and Brook says, she’s safe and sound. Maxie turns away, and Valentin asks, what happened? Brook says she was on her way to Bensonhurst when her water broke. He says, in the car? and she says, yes. Does she need to go into detail?

Finn sees Maxie, and she collapses in his arms.

Britt asks why Obrecht broke in, and Obrecht says she didn’t know if Britt was sleeping. She didn’t want to wake her. Britt says, giving her a heart attack is so much better, and Obrecht says her Britta is made of stronger stuff. Britt says she could have hurt Obrecht, and Obrecht says, she’s made of stronger stuff. Britt says, it’s good to see her, and Obrecht says, it’s good to see Britt too. She seems well for someone on the run. Britt says, they were so careful with covering their tracks; how did Obrecht find her? Obrecht says, Mr. Morgan called her.

Jason asks how Michael is, and Carly says, it’s been an eventful night. She wonders what’s taking the DA’s office so long, and he says, it’s not exactly regular business hours. She says she doesn’t care. He shouldn’t have been there to begin with; she wants him out. He says, okay, he’s going to get out, and she says, not soon enough. It’s been insane without him, and she’s so sorry she made him run. He says they’ve been over this, and she says, in her defense, he would have gotten away clean if he hadn’t gone back in to get Britt. He says he had to, and she says she knows. She finally gets what he means. When a plan’s in motion, it can twist in unexpected ways. She’s sorry she pushed him to escape. He says, it’s okay, and she promises never to put him in that position again. He gives her a look, and she says she’ll try not to put him in that position again. How’s that? He says he’ll take it.

Valentin says Brook gave birth in some hotel with a random doula? Why didn’t she call him? She says she did, but he says he means sooner, when she went into labor. She says she was a little busy, and he says she’s lucky. Things could have gone very poorly. She says, they didn’t, and he says, thank God. She asks if he wants to hold the baby, and he says, very much. He sits, and she puts the baby in his arms. She says, Bailey, it’s your daddy, and he says, Bailey? She says, Bailey Lois Quartermaine, and he says, hello, Bailey; nice to meet you. He tells Brook, she’s beautiful, and Brook says, she knows. He says, she’s tiny and she’s perfect.

With Maxie back in bed, Finn says she’s had blood loss from childbirth, and needs to replenish her fluids. Elizabeth says she knows how impossible it must feel, waiting for word on Louise. Willow appears, and says, waiting for word? What happened? Maxie says, her daughter is gone, and Elizabeth says, the nurse Peter hired kidnapped Maxie, induced labor, and ran off with her baby. Willow says she’s sure they’ll find her, and Elizabeth says, they have to. Maxie says she just wants the baby as far away from Peter as possible.

Jordan says, it’s not working, but Doc tells her, just wait. Cyrus finally answers, and Doc thanks him for picking up. He asks if Laura is all right, and Cyrus says, she’s fine, for now. If he wants her to stay that way, they’ll clear the road and get him that car. Doc says they can work on that, and Cyrus yells, stop stalling, and do it! Just remember, whatever happens to him, happens to Laura too. They go down together. I have to mention, Cyrus looks a lot more haggard today, even though it’s really only a few minutes later from yesterday.

Taggert asks what exactly is Curtis talking about, but Trina tells him, it’s okay. She wants to help if she can. Curtis says he needs to know the layout of the house. Are they any other ways to get in besides the front and back doors? A cellar door maybe? She says he can climb in through her bedroom window; it’s closed, but not locked. He says he needs to know exactly where that is.

A SWAT guy tells Jordan, it’s her call. What does she want them to do? She says, they’ll give Cyrus what he wants.

Carly asks if Jason has talked to Britt. He sits on his cot, and Carly says she’s sure Britt would like to know he’s okay. She’s never been a fan of Britt’s. Britt’s done a lot of horrible things to a lot of people, but people said the same thing about her. He says, Britt saved his life, and she says she knows. What she’s trying to tell him is, her opinion of Britt has definitely changed.

Britt says, Jason called Obrecht? Why? Obrecht says, he wasn’t exactly chatty. He just said she was safe, and gave her an address where she could find Britt. Britt smiles, and says, huh, and Obrecht says, now’s the time to share. Give her all the juicy details. They sit, and Britt says, all that matters is, Jason saved her life… and she saved his. Obrecht smiles, and Britt says, what? Obrecht says, nothing, but Britt says, don’t nothing her; say it. Obrecht says, after wasting her time with men like Nikolas and Patrick Drake, Britt finally met her match.

Olivia hands Jax a drink, and says, it occurred to her that with Sonny gone, and Jason busy with other things, Carly might have stepped into the family business. She wonders if she’d do that, but doesn’t know, since she’s never been in that position. He says he only cares about his daughter’s safety, so whatever Carly is doing, he hopes it’s over sooner rather than later.

Michael heads for Maxie’s room, and Willow tells Maxie that she’s safe there. Elizabeth says Maxie doesn’t have to worry about Peter, but Maxie says she doesn’t know that. Elizabeth says, the police are looking for him; he’s not going to come back here. Finn flashes back to arguing with Peter, and Peter throwing the antidote off the roof. Maxie wishes Peter had just disappeared… forever.

Brook tells the baby that she passed her check-up with flying colors; good work, baby girl. Valentin says she should be checked also, and she says she will, but not tonight. It’s late and she’s tired. He says, tomorrow, and she agrees. He says, how about they get their daughter home? As they walk, they come face-to-face with Austin.

Cyrus asks if Laura thinks he’s an idiot, but she says, no. He asks if she thinks he believes for one moment they’re going to give him what he wants. They’re just stringing him along until they can get a sniper to take him out. That’s not happening. She asks him to listen to her, for just a minute. He says it’s her fault really. All he wanted was to be her brother, and to bask in one ounce of the love she has for everyone else. She says, he wants her love, does he? He says, yes, and she says, then earn it, damn you. She would have helped him if he’d been just the tiniest bit sorry for what he did; if he was just the tiniest bit willing to let someone help him, but no. He wants to bond with her, while he charges the rest of the damn world. He says, so it’s all on him, and she says, it doesn’t have to be. Not yet. He still has time. He can still redeem himself. Turn himself in.

Curtis slips into Trina’s bedroom window, and checks his gun. Laura tells Cyrus, turn himself in. If he does that, she will stand beside him. He says, little sister, it’s far too late.

Valentin asks if Brook is all right, and she flashes back to seeing Austin unconscious in the woods. She says she just got a little startled. Sorry. Austin says, no worries. Congratulations. Brook says, what? and Austin says he can’t see his or her face, but he’s sure the baby is just beautiful. Valentin thanks him, and Austin says he’s looking for room 401; any ideas? Valentin points him in the right direction, and Austin sees a sign that says, Pediatrics: Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries/Neonatal Intensive Care.

Michael tells Maxie that he’s sorry, and the Quartermaines will help in any way they can. She thanks him, and Willow says, they’ll leave so she can rest. In the hallway, Michael says, Maxie must be losing her mind, and Willow says she almost feels guilty going home to Wiley. He asks if she’s still taking Wiley to the gatehouse, and she says not if Michael thinks they’ll wake him. Michael says, Wiley slept through a fire alarm when Cook started a grease fire, and she says, good point. (Wiley isn’t my kid, is he? I slept through a hurricane.) He says, home? and she says, home. They get in the elevator.

Elizabeth tells Maxie that she needs to get some sleep. Maxie says, and let her guard down? What if Peter comes back? Elizabeth says she told Maxie, it’s not going to happen, and Maxie asks how she knows that. Finn says he does. Peter’s not going to bother her again. He can’t.

Britt says Obrecht is being ridiculous, and Obrecht says, is she? Britt says, Jason isn’t her match; they’re not anything. Obrecht says, just two people on the run together, and Britt says, exactly. Obrecht asks if she had sex with him, and Britt says, mom. Obrecht says, did she? Britt says of course (🍷) she didn’t, covering her smile, and Obrecht says she knew it. And? Britt says, and it was amazing. It doesn’t mean anything. She knows how these situations are; everything’s heightened, people are drawn to each other when they normally wouldn’t be. Obrecht says, right. Men like that are brute instruments. Good in the sack, as they say, but no one to plan a future with. Britt says, actually – Obrecht says, she’s wrong? – Jason did something for her that was, in a way, just as important as saving her life. He helped her face something that she’d been running from for years. Obrecht asks, what is that? and Britt says she lied.

Jason asks, what happened at the meeting with the Five Families microwaveable pasta meals? and she says she told him; they backed her. He says, that’s it? and she asks if he thinks she screwed up somehow. He says, no, she did great. She kept the family safe while he was gone. He would expect nothing less. She puts her hand over his and says, he’s always the one who believes in her, and he says, he always will.

Cyrus says Laura has no idea what she’s asking. She wants him to go back to prison with no Jordan to pressure, no blackmail to use – Curtis is now in the hallway, seeing if he can get a clear shot – just spend the rest of his days rotting in that hellhole. Ten years was an infinity. He can’t go back; he’s never going back. He paces, and groans, and says, what a life. Whether she admits it or not, they’re just wild creatures who can’t be contained. As Curtis sneaks around behind Cyrus, Laura asks what he means. What is he going to do? Laura sees Curtis and gasps, and Cyrus grabs her. He tells Curtis, drop the gun, or she dies. Curtis says, take it easy, Cyrus, and puts his gun on the floor. Cyrus shoots him, and Curtis drops. Cyrus walks over to him and says, that’s enough out of him. In the meantime, Jordan comes through the front door, and shoots Cyrus.

Willow pours some wine for Michael and herself, and he asks if she’s okay. With Maxie and all, it couldn’t have been easy for her. She says, her? Maxie is the one who lost her little girl. He says he didn’t know if it brought up any memories, and she says, seeing Maxie alone in that hospital bed, she remembers that feeling; the emptiness, the ache. First, when she gave her baby up, and later, learning that he had died. Michael takes her hand, and she says, sorry. He asks, why? and she says she doesn’t know. She hugs him, and says she’s just happy he’s there with her. He says, him too.

Britt says, when she told Obrecht that she’d been screened for Huntington’s, and that she didn’t have it, that was a lie. She didn’t do the test. She chickened out. Obrecht says, the truth is, it’s Britt’s decision whether she wants to know or not. She should never have pressured her. Britt says, for years now, it’s been in the back of her mind, wondering, did she have it or didn’t she have it? Then it moved to the front of her mind, and eventually, it began taking over her life. Every ache, every pain, wondering, is this it? Is this the beginning of the end? She wound up telling Jason that she might have it, and he was amazing. He didn’t try to tell her what to do, or jump in with advice on how she should run her life. Obrecht says, he listened, and Britt says, he even talked a little too. Obrecht laughs, and asks what he said. Britt says, if it suffocates you, instead of frees you, then you should find out, and she knew in that instant, she needed to know. Obrecht says, she got the test? and Britt says she did. She has the genetic marker for Huntington’s. Obrecht takes her hand.

A guard comes in and unlocks Jason’s cell. Carly says, the charges were dropped? and he says, Jason is free to go. Carly runs in the cell, and hugs Jason, saying, let’s get you out of here, and get you home. On their way out, Carly’s phone dings, and she says, oh my God. They have to go to the hospital. She’ll explain to him on the way. She jets, and Jason heaves such a huge sigh, I literally lol, and he follows her.

Finn tells Maxie, there’s something she needs to know, when Austin knocks on the door, and comes in. He says, sorry to interrupt, but he just wanted to check on the patient. Miss Maxie, how are you? Maxie says, fine, and tells him to come in. She tells Finn and Elizabeth, this is the man who delivered Louise. Can they believe she managed to find a doctor in the middle of the woods? Elizabeth says, only you, Maxie, and Finn says, it’s nice to meet you, Doctor…? and Austin says, he’s off-duty, so just Austin. Elizabeth asks if Finn has time for a consult, and they leave. Okay, I’ll just say it. I guess we’re just ignoring the fact that Austin looks exactly like Todd Franco. Maxie asks how Austin’s head is doing, and he says it’s still on his shoulders. She says, that’s a plus, and he agrees. He says he’s sorry he didn’t come to sooner. He might have been able to help her out with that nurse. If he’d done that, she’d have her baby in her arms right now.

Valentin opens the door for Brook to go into the mansion, and Olivia squeals, Brook had the baby? Nobody told her. Valentin says, things move quickly; it’s hard to keep up. Olivia runs over to Brook and the baby, and says, oh my goodness. Brook says, Bailey, meet your grandmother, Olivia, and Olivia says, she is a literal angel. Olivia asks, what happened? Is Brook okay? Brook asks if they can go in the living room; she needs to sit down. Olivia says, anything Brook needs, just say the word, and helps her to the living room. Jax tells Valentin, congratulations, and Valentin thanks him. Jax says Valentin has a daughter. He’s a lucky man. He holds out his hand, and they shake.

Laura tells Jordan, come in, and Jordan runs to Curtis, asking for something to stop the blood. Laura finds some gauze, and Jordan yells for someone to get Portia. Doc runs in, and hugs Laura, saying, thank God. She says she’s fine; help Curtis. Doc checks Curtis’s pulse, and says it’s thready. Laura tells Curtis, hang in there, and glares at Cyrus, who’s sitting up against a chair, and I’m wondering why someone hasn’t hauled him off yet.

Taggert goes over to Trina and Portia, who asks, what happened? He says, Cyrus is down, and Portia says, it’s over. She hugs Trina, and an officer comes out. He tells Portia that she’s needed inside, and she goes with him.

Jordan tells Curtis, stay with her, and Doc says, his pulse is weaker. Portia runs in, and Laura tells her that Curtis has been shot. While Portia tends to Curtis, Doc takes Laura over to the side, and asks if she’s all right. She says she’s fine, thanks to Curtis. Portia looks at Curtis’s wound, and asks Jordan to help her roll him over, so she can see if the bullet came out the other side. She takes a look, and they move him back the way he was, and Portia tells Jordan, keep pressure on the wound. Jordan says, save him, please, and tells Curtis to open his eyes. Don’t you dare give up on me.

Olivia asks if she can hold Bailey/Louise, and Brook gives her the baby. Olivia says she has to get it in now, because Ned isn’t going to want to let go of her. Brook says, actually, her dad doesn’t know she had the baby, and Olivia says, what?

Obrecht says, this is her fault. Her obsession with Cesar is what led to this. Britt says, no, but Obrecht says, she knows she wasn’t always the best mutter, far from it, especially when Britt was young. But the older Britt got, the prouder Obrecht was of her. So smart, so strong, so capable. Britt has become everything Obrecht asked of her. And the fact that she has this horrible disease, is because Obrecht chose that wretched man to be Britt’s father. Britt says, wow, and Obrecht says she bets Britt never thought of it that way. Britt admits she hadn’t, because it wasn’t Obrecht’s fault. The wow is because this is the first time she’s heard she’s everything Obrecht wanted in a daughter. Obrecht isn’t just saying that because Britt is sick? Obrecht tells Britt, she’s saying it because it’s the truth.

Finn and Elizabeth go to his office, and she says he was going to tell Maxie that Peter was dead, wasn’t he? He says, they can’t leave Maxie terrified that Peter is going to come back, when they both know he won’t. She says, and then what? He gets arrested, and Chase dies because he can’t work on a cure. He says he doesn’t think Maxie would go to the police, but she asks how he knows that. He guesses if Maxie was willing to keep their secret, it would make her an accomplice to murder. He hates seeing her scared and in pain, and Elizabeth agrees it’s awful, but the truth is, telling Maxie about Peter won’t bring back Maxie’s daughter.

Olivia is surprised Brook hasn’t told her father; he’s going to be over the moon. Brook says, it’s been a long day. She’s feeling a bit overwhelmed. Olivia says, that’s totally normal. She’s going to be feeling that way for the next couple of days, or weeks, or even months. When it happens, rely on her family. Brook promises she will, and Jax says he’s really leaving now. Olivia says she’ll walk him out, and starts to give the baby to Brook, but Valentin wants to hold her. Olivia hesitates, and he says, it’s okay. He’s held a baby before. Olivia gives him the baby, and goes with Jax. Valentin says, just wait until Bailey meets her sister. She’s going to fall in love with her like he did.

Michael tells Willow, most people would have closed down. After losing a child, they would have locked up their hearts so they couldn’t be hurt again. But she opened hers to Wiley because she has so much love to give, and he’s so grateful. She says Wiley is the best thing that ever happened to her. One of the best things. He asks if he’s on the list, and she says she’ll check. He is the list. They kiss, and quickly move to getting busy.

At the hospital, Jordan paces, while Taggert sits with Trina. Portia comes out, and says they’re prepping Curtis for surgery. It could be a lengthy procedure. Trina says, but he’s going to be okay, right? Portia says, they don’t know, but they’re doing everything they possibly can. Taggert says, and Cyrus? and Portia says, clean shot through the leg. He’s been admitted, but he’ll survive. Jordan says she has to go. She has to deal with the fallout of what happened. Keep her posted. Portia says, of course (🍷), and Jordan leaves. Portia hugs Trina, and Jason comes in with Carly. Taggert says, welcome home, and Jason asks, what happened with Cyrus? Taggert says, Jordan got him in the leg. Unfortunately, he’s going to survive. Trina says, Curtis might not, and Carly says, Curtis? Portia says, Curtis snuck in, trying to get Laura out before the SWAT team was necessary. Laura and Doc join them, and Laura says, Curtis saved her life.

Elizabeth tells Finn that they need to get to work on a cure, and he says he’s been working. Non-stop. He’s no closer to figuring this out, and they’re running out of time. She says, no, and he says, no, the clock’s not ticking? She says, of course (🍷) the clock’s ticking, but he’s got this. She has faith in him. She wouldn’t have come up with this crazy plan if she didn’t. He says he’s sorry he got her involved in this, but she says she’s not. Peter doesn’t get to take another life. You won’t let him.

Austin says he’ll let Maxie get some rest, and she thanks him for helping her. She’s never going to forget him. He says, that sounds like a goodbye. Is it a goodbye? She says she thought he’d be heading back to Pawtuck, and he says he will, but he wanted to be involved in the search party. He did help bring Louise into this world, and feels vaguely responsible, so he’ll be in touch. He knows those woods like the back of his hand. They’re going to find Louise. He leaves, and Maxie says, that’s what she’s afraid of.

Brook says, this is about as far away from plan as you can get, but of all the guys in the world to be this baby’s father, she’s really glad it’s him. He says, she is? and she says, yeah. The ELQ stock aside, she can tell Valentin really loves her. He says, who wouldn’t? and she says, he’s committed, and he’ll make sure nobody hurts her; that’s all that matters. He says Brook wouldn’t let anyone hurt the baby either. He knows that about her. She says, they’re in this together? and he says, all the way. They’re going to do right by their daughter. They’re going to make Bailey Lois everything, for always. She says, they’re going to give her a really great life, and he asks Bailey/Louise if she hears that. She stirs, and he says, that’s right. I’m talking to you. Aww!

Britt’s phone rings, and she says, Jason? He says, it’s him. She asks if everything is okay, and he says, the charges were dropped. Most importantly, the cops got Cyrus. (I feel the need to point out, ly words are adverbs, so importantly is a word that makes no sense, and it annoys me. It should just be most important. Grammar class over.) She says that’s great, and he is says, it is. Did her mom get there? She says her mom did, and thanks him for that. He says he didn’t want her to be alone, and she asks if there’s any word on Peter. Has he been arrested? He says, not yet, but Cyrus is neutralized, so it’s safe for her to come back home. She says she’ll see him soon, and tells Obrecht, that was Jason. Obrecht says, so she gathered, and Britt says, he’s been exonerated, and Cyrus is in police custody. Obrecht says, so Britt is free to go back to her life, and Britt says, whatever that looks like now. Obrecht says she’s so sorry, but Britt says, at least she knows what she’s dealing with. Obrecht says Britt also has her. She loves Britt so much. Britt says she loves Obrecht too, and they hug.

Carly goes to Cyrus’s guarded room, and looks at him through the window. He sees her, and she smiles. Jordan arrives with Taggert, and tells Carly, Cyrus is in police custody. He’s not going anywhere. Carly says, good, and leaves. Jordan looks through the room window, and Taggert says, she did good today. It took a lot longer than they thought, and cost more than they imagined, but she did good. They finally nailed the bastard.

Portia gives Trina some water, and Doc asks if Laura is sure she doesn’t want to get checked out. She says she’s sure. She’s fine, physically anyway. He says he could hear it in Cyrus’s voice. He knows what someone sounds like when they’re about to crack. She almost died tonight. By God, she is brave. She thanks him, and they exchange I love yous, touching foreheads. He says, do him a favor. Don’t ever do that again. She says she’ll try. She can’t promise though. They hug.

We see a trail of clothing leading to Willow and Michael getting super busy, since they have to make up for lost time. She literally jumps onto him while they’re standing, and in the most awkward move ever, he places her on the bed. Someone watches through the window. Ew.

On Monday, Carly asks why Jax is pushing the issue, Trina tells Curtis that he needs to live, Phyllis asks Nina what’s going on between her and Mike, and Brook wonders where Bailey is.

General Hospital

Okay, now it’s personal. The guide said May 7th, 2020, but in reality, this GH Flashback is from April, 29th, 2020. Here’s the short version, but you can find the whole thing here if you need total refreshment:

Finn asked Chase why he’d pretended he was sleeping with Sasha, and Chase said if Nelle got custody, Willow would never forgive herself. In the eyes of family court, Nelle and Michael were on almost equal footing, so Michael needed a wife who was equally devoted to Wiley, and Sasha had a problematic past. Finn said there was no body count, and no one was perfect, but Chase said Willow was close. However, when he broached the subject, Willow wouldn’t consider it. Finn said it was because Willow loved Chase, and he was doing her a disservice. Chase said, they were adults; Wiley was a defenseless child and needed protection. Sasha called Michael to let him know her things were out of the house, and she’d left the key. She guessed this was goodbye. He told her, goodbye, and Sasha flashed back to telling Chase they’d made a mistake, and should tell Michael and Willow the truth. They were the best thing to happen to her and Chase, and they could have the people they loved back. Chase said that would be awesome for them, but asked if she honestly thought Michael and Willow would be happier with them, or together with Wiley. Carly told Michael that his goodbye sounded final, and he said he and Sasha were over. At the MetroCourt, Willow got on the phone with Lucy to find a new place to live. Nelle appeared and said the rumor must be true; Chase broke another heart. Kristina told Molly to consider her options, but Molly said she needed to be completely honest and tell TJ everything. Sam told Brando that Molly and TJ were about to make it official, and if he made trouble for Molly, he’d be in a world of trouble with her. He asked if Molly knew she was getting involved, and she asked if he was going to run and tattle on her. He said he thought Molly would prefer to fight her own battles, and Sam said he was in no position to tell her about her sister. He said he got it, and she told him, stay away from Molly. If my sister got all up in my business like that, I’d be furious. Lulu ran into Crimson, asking where Charlotte was, and Nina asked her to give Valentin a chance to make it right. In Nina’s office, Charlotte asked if Valentin still loved her, and he said with all his heart, but it wasn’t that simple. She said they could run away right now, and no one could stop them.

Nelle said Chase had thrown Willow away, like he did with her and other women. He was a liar, a user, an expert manipulator, and seduced vulnerable women. Michael told Carly about finding Sasha and Chase together, saying that they’d felt jealous about Michael and Willow spending so much time together with Wiley. He said Carly had been right, but Carly thought she shouldn’t have gotten involved. Brando told Sam that TJ wasn’t going to hear anything from him. Sam said Molly thought she was single, and was heartbroken. Otherwise, she’d never have slept with someone like him. Ouch. She said he’d hurt Kristina’s feelings, saying people who joined cults were stupid. He said he’d apologized, and suggested she not butt into her sister’s business, since Molly was an adult. Sam said she’d always protect Molly, and he said, even if Molly didn’t want her to? Molly told Kristina that telling TJ was the right thing; they’re relationship was bult on honesty. Kristina thought Molly just wanted to make herself feel better at TJ’s expense. Valentin told Charlotte that she wouldn’t see him for a while, and Charlotte wondered if it was because she was bad, but he said, no; she was a good girl. She wanted things to be like they were when she was little, and it was just the two of them, back when he loved her. He said he’d always love her, and she asked why he wouldn’t fight for her. Valentin flashed back to Charlotte saying it wasn’t his fault; it was everyone else’s for lying, even Lulu’s, since she didn’t want him to be happy with Nina. He remembered Charlotte insisting that he’d find a way to get Windymere and Nina back, so they could live happily ever after. Nina asked Lulu why Charlotte was so upset, and Lulu said she thought Charlotte overheard her talking with Laura about Valentin not choosing to fight for custody. Laura thought Valentin was sincere, but Lulu didn’t trust him. Valentin came out with Charlotte, and Lulu told her that she couldn’t run off like that. Charlotte said she couldn’t let her papa leave. She knows he’d do anything for her, and she had to show him that she would too.

Willow said Nelle was trying to manipulate her, and she could go to hell. She knew who Nelle was, and if Brad was telling the truth about anything, it was that Nelle gave him the baby. Nelle didn’t want Michael to have him, and used Willow’s dead child like a prop to convince Michael their baby was dead. Nelle said Sasha was more Chase’s type anyway, and Willow said, goodbye. Finn asked Chase why he thought Willow and Michael would marry, and Chase said once the road was cleared, Willow would follow her heart to Wiley. Finn said he believed Chase’s intentions were honorable, and Chase said Sasha had been stand-up about it. She wasn’t happy either, but agreed that Wiley’s safety came first. Finn said Chase wasn’t going to like what he had to say. His intentions were good, but his methods stunk. He made a huge mistake. Valentin told Charlotte there was a right and wrong way to keep a family together, and they had to figure out the right way. They’d always be family, even if she didn’t see him. She kept his heart beating. Charlotte said Valentin kept her heart beating too. Lulu asked to speak to Charlotte alone, and they went into Nina’s office. She told Charlotte to be totally honest, promising that she wouldn’t be in trouble. Did she overhear Lulu and her grandma? Valentin thanked Nina, and she said she was sorry Charlotte was going through this. He said he wasn’t fighting Lulu for full custody, and Nina said she never thought he’d give up on his daughter. Sam told Brando that Molly saw the best in people, but she was more realistic. She said Brando had been locked up, and he said that made two of them, but he was free and Sam was on parole. It wasn’t about Molly. It was about Sam and Jason. Kristina asked Molly, if TJ had communicated with her, would she have slept with Brando? Molly said, of course (🍷) not, but TJ hadn’t ghosted her; he’d been taken against his will. Kristina said Molly had no way of knowing that, and asked if she slept with Brando to get back at TJ. Molly said, no. She’d been tired of feeling frustrated and angry, and Brando made her laugh; it felt good. Kristina said that was her point. It had nothing to do with TJ, and Molly had no reason to tell him. In that perfect soap moment that sometimes happens, TJ walked in, and said, tell him what?

Kristina told TJ that Molly had been telling her about their upcoming domestic partnership. TJ told Molly that he’d wanted to surprise her, and picked up her car. He wanted to prove to her that he’d do anything for them to stay together. Sam said she and Jason were none of Brando’s business, and he said like he and Molly were none of her business. How about if they both just minded their own business? Sam said he couldn’t dismiss her; she wasn’t done. He said they were done. Valentin told Nina that she knew he would never give up on his daughter, and she said, then fight stay to stay in Charlotte’s life. He said he was trying to do the right thing. He’d been a bad influence on Charlotte, and wanted to keep his distance. Nina said he could do that, or be a better man. Lulu asked why Charlotte didn’t speak to her first, and Charlotte said Lulu never wanted to talk about her papa to her; she always changed the subject. Michael told Carly that he loved Sasha, and had thought it was real. Carly said she thought it was too, but didn’t think Sasha was the woman Michael needed. Michael said Wiley had blindsided them, and Sasha wasn’t ready for an instant family. Either consciously or subconsciously, she got out. Carly swore Michael would get custody and find the woman he deserved.

Molly told TJ that Sam was picking up her car, but he said he’d seen Sam there. Molly said she had to run some errands, but he should stay at Charlie’s and eat. They declared their love for each other, and she left. Brando told Sam that he wasn’t there to cause trouble; it was the opposite. He was covering for Dev because Sonny wanted him to. She wondered if he had an ulterior motive, and he said if she was happy with her mechanic, they never had to cross paths again. Nina told Valentin to be a better man, and be the positive influence Charlotte needed, instead of proving you should walk away when the going got tough. Charlotte wasn’t going to see it the same way he did. He said he’d lived a life fueled by resentment, but she said he was capable of great love. He wasn’t so sure, and she said Charlotte would love him unconditionally for the rest of his life. The right thing he thought he was doing was just wrong. He said, of course (🍷) she was right. He’d tried being noble, and screwed it up. In Nina’s office, Charlotte said she’d heard Lulu say her papa was walking away from her for her own good, and said she was glad. Lulu said Charlotte heard part of a grown-up conversation that she didn’t understand. She wished Charlotte had  talked to her, but Charlotte said Lulu didn’t care how she felt. Michael told Carly that he couldn’t afford to make any more mistakes. Wiley’s custody was in limbo, and Nelle was unpredictable. Carly suggested he go for a run, and flashed back to giving Sasha a second chance, and telling her there were no third chances where her children were concerned. Chase told Finn, get out. It was hard enough for him. He loved Willow, and had to break her heart, tearing his own to shreds in the process, but it had to be done. Finn said it was a bad move to lie. Willow would have made up her own mind, and made her own choice. Chase said it was too late, but Finn told him to come clean, and there would be a chance to save his relationship. There was only one way to find out. He told Chase to let Willow decide how to help Wiley. It wasn’t fair that her decision should be based on a lie. Find her and fix it.

At the park, Michael flashed back to better times with Sasha. Sasha went to the MetroCourt bar, and Nelle zeroed in on her, saying Carly would destroy her for cheating on Michael. She said her lawyer wanted to talk to Sasha about being a character witness against Michael, and Sasha said she couldn’t believe what bitch Nelle warned. Nelle said she thought Sasha had been warned, and called her a backstabbing boyfriend stealing slut. On her way out, Nelle saw Carly, and said they’d have to talk soon. Valentin told Nina that it killed him to think Charlotte believed he was abandoning her. Nina told him to be the Valentin she knew he could be. Lulu and Charlotte came out of the office, and Lulu told Valentin they needed to talk. Molly showed up at the garage, and asked why Sam was there. Sam wondered why Molly was there, and Molly said she decided not tell TJ. Brando said he’d told her before that he wouldn’t say anything, and Molly told Sam to go on ahead. She wanted to talk to Brando.

Nina tried to distract Charlotte, who thought her parents were taking too long. Nina said whatever they decided, it was because they loved Charlotte. Charlotte said she understood, but didn’t have to like it. Nina said, no matter what, she’d be there for Charlotte. Lulu and Valentin came out, and Lulu said it was time to go home. Valentin said he’d pick Charlotte up tomorrow; he wasn’t going away – ever. Lulu said she and Valentin were going to be better. Charlotte deserved to be loved by both parents. TJ asked Kristina how Molly seemed. He thought she seemed a little shaky. Kristina said Molly had been heartbroken thinking TJ had ghosted her. She thought she’d lost him forever. He said good thing he got kidnapped, and Kristina said they had their whole lives ahead of them. She suggested they put the past behind them, and TJ said they had their whole future to look forward to. Molly apologized for Sam, but Brando said family was supposed to look out for each other. Brando said he’d told Molly that he wasn’t going to say anything, and Molly said she’d made her own choices. He didn’t take advantage, but it could never happen again. He said nothing happened between them, and she thanked him, adding she was sorry. He said nice knowing her.

Carly told Sasha that Michael blamed himself, but she blamed Sasha. Michael ran into Nelle, who asked if he was having a bad day. Chase contemplated finding Willow and fixing it, when Willow showed up. She said she was there to pick up her stuff. She breezed past him, and he said her name.

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

JoshA came by JoshF’s messy office to discuss the Razor house. JoshA said he’d gotten and offer, but the buyer was very well-known, and the caveat was that he’d represent them. In his interview, he said he’d had to sign an NDA. The buyer was a big deal, and it was the perfect property for them. This left JoshF with representing the buyer. JoshA said he was a little sad, but both buyer and seller needed equal representation. JoshA told JoshF to get his beauty sleep; they were going to negotiate tomorrow, and hopefully close the deal. JoshF said JoshA was dead to him, and it was a nice run while they had it. David James was showing homes to Brittnie and Jeremy, who were having their first child and in a time crunch, but still being very picky. James said that if you could get between your home and office in 30 minutes, that was heaven, and the couple owned a successful weed cannabis company in Venice. The buyer’s agent, Santiago, showed them a 4200 square foot, 6 bedroom, 5 bath house, priced at $3.795 million. Brittnie said she wasn’t sure it was their vibe; it was too traditional. James said at their price point, it was hard to find a modern home.

Scott Gillen had given Tracy a listing portfolio of 13 residences, between $60 and $100 million each. She’d told her team they had to pull something elegant together to pull in people, and had a week to do it. In her interview, Tracy said Scott was so anal about keeping his house clean, she was surprised he was allowing her to throw an event there. She told assistant Eleanor that, at the bare minimum, she would have 30 to 40 brokers. If it hit 100 to 150, she’d have a nervous breakdown. There would be a shoe check-in, where everyone would be given slippers. On the deck, they’d have incredible food and beautiful drinks, and she wanted delicate, nice touches. They wouldn’t be able to use the bathrooms either. In Tracy’s interview, she said she’d heard rumors on how difficult Scott was, and how most people didn’t last long. Everyone had discouraged her, but she was doing it. She’d worked her entire career to land a listing like this. It was a tight timeline with a challenging client.

David James showed Brittnie and Jeremy another house in Pacific Palisades, north of Santa Monica. He said it was a tight community in an iconic neighborhood, often used as a backdrop for TV shows. The house was partially staged, since they had been in escrow, but the buyer dropped out. I didn’t catch the square footage, but it was big, with 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, and a smart system. I thought of those people on Dr. Phil, who had been threatened through their own security camera, and I’m not so sure I want a smart anything. The kitchen was fabulous, as always, and I cried inside once again over my postage stamp sized what-passes-as-a-kitchen. James said it was the epitome of a modern, new construction, but not so kid friendly. In his interview, he said he didn’t think they realized how much baby proofing they would need to do. I loved the dual master closets (which you know she’ll take both of), but I cringed at the dual sink in the master bath. I’ve never been close enough to anyone to want to brush our teeth together. And that includes my husband. We have a dual sink in our upstairs bathroom, and all it does is take up too much space. James pointed out the canyon view, and said no one would ever block it. In his interview, James said his clients had no effing clue what comes next. He’d had his daughter at 26, and couldn’t look after himself, much less a baby. He said, Brittnie and Jeremy had an established business, and had no effing idea what was happening. He told them it wasn’t a ridiculous price, and the seller was willing to negotiate.

JoshF tried to convince assistant Wilie that he should change his name to Wilie Coyote. JoshA visited Tracy’s office, looking for booze. He was there late, preparing for his negotiation with JoshF about the Razor house. He figured Tracy was always good for some liquor. She told him that he’d better have a plan, and a backup plan if he was negotiating with JoshF. JoshA said he’d retire if he lost to JoshF. Tracy said she’d never had a client send back an event invite 32 times, but Scott had done it. In her interview, Tracy said he called all hours of night, and texted her at 10 pm, asking her to call him. JoshA told her that he’d had the listing two years ago for 10 days. It was going to destroy her. In Josh’s interview, he said Tracy could hold her own with anybody in any room, but his experience – the non-stop calls, impossible demands, and Scott being an ass in general – was unbearable. There was no light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel didn’t end. Tracy said she expected him to cancel the event at the last minute. Josh asked if he was invited, and she said her last list had been rejected, so she’d put him on the next one. In her interview, she said there were difficult people and bad people, and she hoped she wasn’t spending tens of thousands just for Scott’s ego.

The Joshes met at Canter’s, oldest Jewish deli in L.A. In his interview, JoshF said, they were two Jewish guys. Where else would they go to negotiate a deal? He said he’d found out JoshA’s buyer was Alicia Keys, and wasn’t going to go easy on him. JoshF told him, all cash and a quick close at $20 million. He’d tried to comp it, but it wasn’t easy. I understand this, since my house has been difficult to comp in the past. JoshF laughed, and said, give him something work with. JoshA said trophy houses went from $1800 to $4000 a foot, and it was a decent start. JoshF brought up that they’d been asking for more the last time around, but JoshA said, no matter what they’d been asking, that didn’t mean it was worth it. I get this too, since I have an eBay store, and everyone thinks their stuff is worth tons of money. It’s not. JoshF got on the phone with the seller, who said the house was one of a kind, but Josh said the seller was paying him a lot of money, and they had to show they were ready to negotiate, and had to be realistic. The seller told him, get it done. JoshA said he wasn’t messing around, and he’d gone straight to his client’s maximum. In JoshA’s interview, he said his client trusted him to get the best deal, and even though he could go to $23 million, he wasn’t leaving until he squeezed more out of JoshF. In JoshF’s interview, he said he knew he could squeeze more out of JoshA. JoshF told JoshA, $20.8 million; tell her to write another song. JoshA said they had a deal. In his interview, JoshA said he was apprehensive at first, but the more he and JoshF worked together, the more he liked it. They had good times and weird times, and maybe he’d miss JoshF a little bit, but he wasn’t getting carried away. They hugged, and JoshF left, sticking JoshA with the check.

In his interview, David James said Brittnie was due in one week, and they needed to close on the Palisades house yesterday. He and David met with broker Alex, and made an offer of $6.4 million (the asking price was $6.785). Alex said they had a higher offer before, but David said, it wasn’t real, and James said he was giving them a deal on a platter. The developer had three other houses going on the market, and in James’s interview, he said the seller would be a fool not to take the deal and run. James got the buyers to come up to $6.650 million with a 14 day close, but they also wanted the audio visual equipment included, and for the seller to install blackout shades in several rooms. They had a deal, and in his interview, James said, it wasn’t a moment too soon. A few days after they closed, Brittnie had a boy named Tiger. They showed a picture, and I thought it was a good name for him.

Tracy brought a port-a-potty to the New Castle, and in her interview, said she’d gone above and beyond for the launch, and spent $15K. She told the team, no food or drinks in the house, slippers for everybody, and no delivery trucks in the driveway. Party planner Michelle worked like a maniac, and Tracy said it needed to be perfect. Scott was watching everything. She told Michelle to have two golf carts in place at either end of the driveway, to make sure no one was ever waiting, and to make sure the guests got gift bags. Scott arrived, and griped about shoes being everywhere. While Tracy dealt with the hand-rolled sushi bar, Scott bitched about equipment being on his stucco. Tracy said they needed to plug in somewhere, and Scott said he wasn’t talking to her; he didn’t want to ruin her day. In Tracy’s interview, she said, as impossible as it felt to create the event, she did it. She told one of her team that it had to function like a normal effing event, or she was going to lose it. She only got one shot. She wanted to make sure the brokers’ clients got a digital key with all the information on a flashdrive. In her interview, she said the digital key was major. It was the only way for the brokers to deliver the material to their clients. Who knew if they’d ever be able to get in again? The Chairman of Douglas Elliman, along with his CEO, showed up, and Tracy said Chairman Howard was the only person she cared about seeing the house. She wanted him to be impressed, since he was connected to the richest people, and her greatest asset. We saw a clip of Tracy consulting Howard when she wanted to take a leap with her business. He told her if she was good at what she did, she’d be good at it no matter what. James and David arrived, and were told not to touch or lean on anything. David James said he’d heard of neurotic, but this took it to a whole new level. Then they discovered the Saran wrapped toilet, and he said there was particular, OCD, and completely effing nuts. He told Tracy the price was an ambitious number, and she’d need a very specific buyer. JoshA and brother Matt got there just as Scott was pulling out to leave.

Josh said they wanted a personal tour from Scott. In his interview, Josh said the last time he was there, he’d told Scott the house was outrageously priced, and a giant waste of his time and money. They’d told each other to f*** off. Scott said he wasn’t doing a tour, and Josh said he thought Scott was going to break the record for days on the market with a house. Inside, Tracy saw Josh talking with Scott, and James said he’d never seen her look nervous before. Matt argued with Scott about his price, and Josh asked how many times he offered to fire Tracy this week. Scott said, three, and Josh said he was getting soft, but he put agents through the ringer. Tracy couldn’t get outside fast enough, and JoshA said they were there to support their girl. He told her that they were proud of her for dealing with this sh*t. In Tracy’s interview, she said she was shocked Scott hadn’t kicked everyone out, and she was keeping her mouth shut. Scott left without further incident, and JoshA told David and James that he’d lasted a week with Scott. David James said some clients just weren’t worth it. Tracy said she separated her personal feelings about the client’s personality from the business deal. In her interview, she said it had been a roller coaster, but outside of JoshA and Matt, most of the people enjoyed the house. James David said he’d needed to pee for the last two hours.

Next time, a house that’s like a resort, JoshF hires some airplane advertising, Tracy has a party, and JoshA argues price with a client.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Getting into the Wayback Machine, we open the door at November 7th, 2014.

Anna arrested Duke at The Floating Rib. Sonny was about to shoot Ava, but Michael intervened. Sonny said he didn’t know what Kiki had told Michael, but Michael said Kiki told him nothing; Franco did. Old Nina was at an apartment, rocking a baby like it was hers, and Madeline came in with baby supplies. Nina asked if Madeline had intentionally wrecked her marriage to Silas. Silas (Michael Easton before he was Finn) asked Nathan if there was any word on Nina, but Nathan said no, and Dante told Nathan that he had to arrest Sonny. Morgan told Kiki (who used to be Starr) not to worry; Sonny wouldn’t lay a finger on Ava until after the baby was born, but Kiki couldn’t believe Morgan left her mother alone with Sonny. She’d thought Morgan loved Ava, and now she was at Sonny’s mercy thanks to him. Sonny got a text saying Franco was dead, but Franco was at the pier.

Michael told Sonny that Franco had shown him something eye opening – Sonny admitting to killing AJ (Michael’s father). The necklace they’d found had a camera in it, and Franco had recorded Sonny and Carly’s tryst, where Sonny confessed to killing AJ, and Carly helped him cover it up. Ava said she saw it happen, and encouraged Michael to shoot Sonny. Sonny kept yelling at her to shut up, and Ava told Michael that she had to find her baby. Nina got a call from Franco, and she asked him how the wedding went. Dante told Nathan that Sonny got caught covering up the murder, and he had to do his job. Nathan offered to arrest Sonny, but Dante said, no. He knew this day was coming, and it was his job to handle it. Nathan said he was going to find himself in the same situation with his own mother – not Obrecht, but Madeline. Nina had an emotional breakdown and assaulted her husband, and he thought Madeline was helping her. Kiki wondered where Ava was, and Silas said he’d gotten a text from Ava, saying she was with Morgan. Kiki said that wasn’t possible, since Morgan was at the hospital. Anna told Duke that she saw the recording of Sonny confessing to AJ’s murder. Duke had lied to the police and her, and she was arresting him for perjury, obstruction of justice, and being an accessory after the fact in AJ’s murder. Ava told Michael that Nina had taken her daughter, and Sonny had stood in the way of her stopping it. Michael kept his gun on Sonny, and Ava said Michael should kill Sonny for what he did to Michael’s father.

Lucy babbled to Bobbie about Anna arresting Duke, and said Bobbie seemed blasé about it. Bobbie said she had other things on her mind, but Lucy couldn’t figure out what would be more horrible; Duke looked humiliated. Bobbie said she was worried about her daughter. Franco told Nina, the wedding was eventful, and she said her day was eventful too. She had someone new in her life, and couldn’t wait for Franco to meet her, but he wasn’t sure when he could get away. He told her it was corny, but he could use a friend, and she said she could too. Kiki told Silas that Morgan had been in the ER all night, and she didn’t think her mom sent the text. Dante told Morgan that he was looking for Sonny; it was about AJ getting shot. Ava told Michael to shoot Sonny, but Michael told her, shut the hell up. It wasn’t enough that Sonny had killed AJ; she and Sonny had desecrated his grave. He said they were both disgusting, but this was between him and Sonny. He told Ava to go, and she gave them a wide berth and ran. Nina asked Madeline if she’d hired Ava to wreck her marriage, and Madeline said they shouldn’t have this conversation in front of the baby. Nina suggested they speak in French, but then realized the baby hadn’t even mastered English yet. She gave Madeline a friendly reminder that she controlled the money, and said she wanted the truth or Madeline wouldn’t see a dime. Madeline admitted that she’d hired Ava. Silas asked Kiki if she thought the text was from Nina. He’d had a patient who tested positive for something, but then was fine. Kiki said they needed to get to Ava before it was too late.

On the pier, Franco tucked a gun into his waistband, while Ava stumbled through a tunnel, and came out at the pier. She saw Franco, and called to him, but he didn’t hear her. Lucy told Bobbie that if Carly had considered the consequences, she wouldn’t have covered up AJ’s murder. Bobbie asked since when was Lucy a fan of AJ’s? and Lucy said no one liked AJ, but Carly should be punished. Bobbie said the same could be said for Lucy’s boyfriend Duke. Nathan told Anna that Dante was about to arrest his father, and he had to arrest his mother. Anna said she could handle things with Duke. Dante told Morgan that Ava didn’t kill AJ; Sonny did. He remembered the gun was missing when the cops looked for evidence at Sonny’s house, and realized Michael might have it. Michael told Sonny, Jason saw him at the Quartermaine crypt, and asked if Sonny had gone to there to brag to AJ that he’d gotten away with murder. He said Sonny had desecrated AJ’s grave by sleeping with Ava there (hint: sleeping was the last thing they were doing). Then Sonny let the blame fall on an innocent woman for AJ’s murder. Sonny said Ava wasn’t innocent; she’d shot Olivia and killed Connie, then let AJ take the fall. Michael said Sonny knew AJ was innocent, and killed him anyway. Although if I remember correctly, AJ had tried to kill Connie, and Ava just finished the job. Sonny told Michael it wasn’t like that, and Michael asked how it was. Sonny said AJ found out that Ava had killed Connie, and went to confront her. Ava was going to shoot AJ, but AJ grabbed the gun. He’d had his hands around Ava’s neck. Michael asked if Sonny was claiming he saved Ava’s life, and Sonny said AJ took his hands off of her, and was about to tell him something – that Ava had killed Connie – but he shot him anyway. Michael said Sonny hated AJ, so he’d killed him. Sonny admitted he did, but swore he wouldn’t have pulled trigger if he’d known AJ hadn’t killed Connie. He found out later after hearing a recording AJ made of Ava confessing. Michael said he believed Sonny, but it didn’t change anything; it made it worse.

Anna said she’d warned Duke since he’d decided to work for Sonny. She’d told him that if Sonny was found guilty, he’d go down too, and Duke lied to her face. Duke said he regretted that, and Anna asked why he’d chosen Sonny over her. Bobbie said Lucy had been hanging all over Duke since Scotty had chosen her over Lucy. Lucy said she’d needed a shoulder to cry on and a good friend, but Bobbie’s brain was too small to understand the complexities of their platonic relationship. She told Bobbie to have fun sifting through the rubble of Carly’s latest disaster, and left. Franco came in, and asked if he could buy Bobbie a drink. Madeline said she had Nina’s best interests at heart, and Nina said, Silas was a good man, but Madeline sicced Ava on him. Madeline said Silas had chosen to cheat, and she’d done Nina a favor. Nina insisted Silas wouldn’t have touched Ava if Madeline hadn’t put her in his path. Their marriage would have been fine if Madeline hadn’t intervened, but it didn’t matter anymore; she had Silas’s baby now. Kiki and Silas found Ava on the pier, and Silas checked her out, saying she would be all right. Ava wondered where her baby was, and Kiki asked who’d done this to her. Ava said Nina and her mother took the baby. Silas called Nathan, and said he knew where Nina had been. Nina and Madeline fawned over the baby, and Nina said they’d never have to think of Ava again, and neither would Silas. It was like it never happened, and she had something Ava could never give him. Bobbie said she didn’t want anything from Franco after what he’d done to her daughter and grandson. Franco said he’d shown them the truth, and Carly got what she deserved. Bobbie said Carly made a mistake, and he asked, which time? Bobbie said so Carly cheated on him, but she didn’t deserve an ambush. Carly was right not to be with him, and he’d cost Michael his relationship with both of his parents. Franco said he fully expected Michael to thank him someday, and Bobbie said she was getting Carly a lawyer. Franco said it would be a waste of time and money. Duke admitted to Anna that he lied to protect Sonny, but he didn’t choose Sonny over her. It was the opposite. Anna said he risked his freedom and their relationship for a casual business acquaintance, but he said Sonny had offered him friendship and a job, and made him feel useful. Anna asked if Duke repaid Sonny by covering up the murder, and he said Sonny understood the depth of his hatred for Julian, and how much Julian had damaged their lives. He was desperate to rid the town of that scumbag, and Sonny had the means to do it. Anna said Julian was still walking the streets, and AJ was in a crypt. Duke said Sonny needed his help, and together they would bring Julian down. Sonny would have paid the price, but he hadn’t sacrificed his own freedom for Sonny’s; he’d kept his word. Anna hoped he was prepared to deal with the consequences, and not just with the justice system.

Michael asked if it was supposed to make it okay that Sonny didn’t know AJ was innocent. Sonny had sworn he wouldn’t hurt AJ, and Michael thought he could believe that. If he’d loved Michael, he wouldn’t have pulled the trigger. When Michael mourned the loss of his father, Sonny comforted him, knowing what he’d done. He was no longer Sonny’s son, and Sonny wasn’t his father; AJ was his father. Sonny said Michael had a right to be angry, but he’d raised Michael. Michael said Sonny poisoned him against AJ, but it wasn’t for his sake. He’d been a pawn that Sonny used against AJ, and it cost Michael his whole life with his real father. Now he was going to make Sonny pay. He told Sonny to put his gun down. Morgan and Dante kept talking and talking and talking. They talked so long, Dante could have intervened ten times. Ava was brought into the hospital, and Silas said Nina had done something terrible. Madeline asked if Nina realized the baby wasn’t hers and Silas’s, but Nina said, of course (🍷) it was. Who else’s baby would it be? Bobbie asked Franco why getting Carly a lawyer would be a waste of time and money, and he said Sonny had confessed, and he already gave the video to his father (Scotty). Duke was taken away, and Lucy told him she’d take care of everything. Sonny put his gun on the floor, and Michael said now he was defenseless like AJ had been when Sonny killed him. He wasn’t like Sonny, and kept his promises, and he’d promised AJ that he’d make his killer pay.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (in a way)

Tonight, Erika Jayne/Girardi and Reza Farahan gave commentary on episode 618, and Bravo seems to be getting the hang of it. They not only got the right pair – a gay man and a gay icon – but they talked to each other. Reza told us, a bitch did his own hair, while showing off his freshly colored locks. He addressed Erika as Mrs. Girardi, and admitted, besides being a Bravolebrity, he was a Bravoholic. The show was from Erika’s first season, when the women went to Dubai, and included a cast member named Kathryn, who I don’t remember. Apparently, she wasn’t very memorable to a lot of people, since that must have been her only season. It was their second day at Atlantis; The Palm Dubai, and LVP and Kyle went swimming with the sealions; Eileen and Erika went to the aquarium; and LisaR went to the spa with Kathryn. Kyle was angry about some picture my memory was fuzzy on – the word enraged kept coming up. Erika said going to Dubai was glamorous, and they had the best trips. Reza said, nine times out of ten, LisaR will be packing leopard.

Eileen talked to LisaR about the picture situation, and we flashed back to LisaR telling Eileen about LVP and Kyle talking smack about Yolanda. Then I realized the picture must be from Yolanda’s Instagram. There had been a big kerfuffle about Yolanda having been sick, but she’d hung out with Brandi or something. God knows, wherever Brandi is, there’s some kind of problem. Eileen said her relationships with the other women had changed because LisaR was telling her stuff, but not owning it with the others, and it made Eileen look bad. Reza asked Erika if the men had been staring at them. She said, yes and no, without really clarifying, and he said that he was a gay man, and knowing how he reacts to seeing her blonde hair, he could only imagine. In Dubai, the women went for a ride through the desert, and Reza told Erika, the smokey eye was a big hit with Middle Easterners. Erika said she was mad about having to put on a turban for the ride, because it messed up her hair. I guarantee she would have been twice as mad if she’d let the wind whip through it. We had a convertible for a while, and I hated dealing with that. Erika said the ride was intense, and she was worried they were going to fall. Reza pointed out that a vintage Range Rover Defender (what they were riding in) was a big deal. The episode was making him homesick.

The women were brought to an outside dinner table, where camels hung out in the periphery. Erika told Reza, camels spit, and there were snakes in the desert grass. The women were given tea with camel milk, which they loved until they found out it was camel milk. Frankly, I don’t see what difference it makes, since conventional milk comes from a cow. Erika told Reza that she died when the waiter said that, and the tea suddenly tasted different. When the waiter said they were going to be served camel meat, the only ones game enough to try it were LisaR and Kathryn, who got on a high horse in her interview, saying they should eat what the natives did. I get that, but I don’t eat a hamburger surrounded by cows sweetly chewing cud. We’ve gone to a restaurant that has fish tanks for walls, and I feel weird ordering seafood there. Erika asked if Reza had ever had camel, and he said he couldn’t eat dark meat chicken.

LVP had a conversation on the side with LisaR, and the dreaded Munchausen topic came up. I remember that well, because they must have said Munchausen 5000 times throughout the course of a few episodes. We flashed back to LisaR being at LVP’s house, and saying when someone had mentioned Munchausen’s in regard to Yolanda, she’d engaged, and now felt sh*tty about it. LVP asked her why she wasn’t bringing up Kyle, who’d questioned Yolanda’s illness, and in LisaR’s interview, she said Kyle and LVP had both been questioning it. She told LVP, everyone felt same; it wasn’t just her. Erika told Reza, the market in Dubai wasn’t really like Sex in the City, and the women acted like tourists. We watched as they haggled, but Kathryn’s reaction to a cockroach being in a caftan she was trying on, was one of the funniest things ever. Reza said, Kathryn was the one who ate gamey camel meat, and she’s afraid of a roach? I assume it was like the ones in Florida, which you can saddle, and I’d have the same reaction. I’ll bet Reza would too. Erika said, imagine being new, and trying to put the pieces together. On the show, Erika gave Kathryn a replica of the Burj Khalifaa, a famous Dubai skyscraper, and she told Reza that they had followed her on social media after that.

LisaR, Kathryn, and Kyle had drinks and appetizers at a hotel restaurant, and Reza said it was the best going to a restaurant you’re familiar with in a foreign country. He said LisaR looked locked and loaded, and watched as she told Kyle about her conversation with LVP. Kyle said LVP told her that she’d thought LisaR might bring Kyle into it, and LisaR said everyone let LVP get away with manipulating situations. LVP wanted other people to get involved, so she had clean hands. Reza wondered why there was no footage of LVP talking to Kyle, and Erika said because she did it when there were no cameras around. Reza said that was exactly what he’d wanted her to say. In Eileen’s interview, she said Kyle knew LVP was manipulating her, and it was nuts. Reza asked Erika a question about what was happening, and I got the feeling she didn’t really remember, which would be understandable. Reza pointed out that Erika wore a lot of yellow gold in Dubai, and that’s the way they do it in the Middle East.

When the women were at dinner, they discussed the next day’s trip to the mall, and Kyle went over the rules; no swearing or talking about s-e-x. Reza said he was sitting on the edge of his chair, waiting for LisaR to pop off, when she said she had to get something off her chest. LisaR asked LVP why she suggested bringing Kyle’s name into the conversation about Yolanda. Reza and Erika discussed LVP’s body language; Erika saying it conveyed she was in charge, and Reza saying LVP was gangster. Kyle said LVP told her that she was afraid LisaR would bring her into it. LisaR said they’d all talked about it, but she seemed to be the only one going down for it. One of the reasons I’ve soured on the Housewives is because some of this stuff is just so petty, and they make it sound like a mob war. In her interview, Kyle said she’d made some comments about Yolanda’s Instagram (I guess that’s what enraged her), but never said anything about Munchausen’s (see what I mean?). Reza said if he hadn’t seen Kyle’s teeth looking so fly when he saw the episode the first time, he wouldn’t have found his dentist. He’ll always be grateful to Kyle.

Eileen brought up LVP making her uncomfortable in the Hamptons when she’d asked about the affair that led to Eileen’s current marriage. Erika said she thought LVP never liked Eileen, and Reza said, on a side note, Eileen should have gone with a dramatic lip. Erika started laughing because she’d thought he was going to say something more profound. So did I. Kathryn said Eileen wasn’t feeling the sincerity in LVP’s apology, and in her interview, said she thought the problem was cultural differences. In LisaR’s interview, she said she was disappointed in LVP. She had respect for her, and LVP let her down. Reza said LVP looked irritated, and Erika agreed. LisaR told LVP, she’d tried to rewrite it, and it was not okay. The episode ended there, and Reza asked Erika, looking back, what grade did she give herself on the episode? Erika said she scored okay, which isn’t a grade, but okay. Watching it years later, she thinks she called it how she saw it from the beginning. Reza said she didn’t have a Denise Richards type situation going on either. She didn’t show up in shorts and a tank top. She was slaying it from day one. They both thought it would be fun to get together, told each other to stay safe, and blew a kiss.

Much, much better.

We’re officially past the week’s hump, so I suppose camel milk was fitting. It’s always confusing when Independence Day falls on the weekend – is it Friday or Monday when things are closed? But since for many, it’s still a perpetual weekend, and lots of things are still closed, it’s even more muddled.
