What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts, recaps, and the whole GH enchilada on Fridays)

General Hospital

Diane goes to the coffee warehouse, and says she needs to talk to Jason. Is his staff still here? He says, it’s just them, and she says she needs him to do something. He says, it sounds serious, and she says she hates to ask, but circumstances demand it. She’s requesting that he betray someone, and he asks, who? She says, Sonny.

Carly shows up at the penthouse, and Sonny asks, what’s going on? She says, Holly is looking for him, and asks if any strangers have been hanging out nearby or if he’s seen a parked car. He says, his people would notice. Why? She says she had dinner with Jack, and someone was watching them.

Alexis says, Martin visiting her at night can’t be good, but he says, on the contrary. He has the key to her salvation. He shows her a picture of Jack and asks if he looks familiar. She says, not in the slightest, and he says, Jack Brennan is the WSB station chief in Port Charles. He’s a player and has a different girl in every town. His P.I. took this picture of Jack with Carly. Why would a known playboy host a late-night dinner in his hotel suite with Carly when she’s supposed to be reunited with Sonny? Shameful.

Kristina says she has information about the night John Cates was killed, and Anna asks if anyone knows she’s here. Kristina says, no, and Anna asks if she wants to call someone, like a lawyer. She needs to think carefully. Kristina says she feels like Anna is trying to get her not to talk, but Anna says, on the contrary. She just wants Kristina to understand the potential ramifications, not just for her mother, but for her.

Elizabeth finds Dante in Lulu’s room, and says she was just checking on him. She saw Sam leave with Rocco and thought this would be a good time. Is he staying long? He says he can leave if anyone comes to spend time with Lulu. He wants to make sure someone is always with her. She says she’s here if he needs anything, and he says, she can help him learn to keep his mouth shut. She says she’s sure whatever he said isn’t as bad as he thinks, but he says, his son will feel differently if he can’t keep his promise that Lulu will make it.

In the chapel, Lucky says, if God is listening, he could sure use some guidance. He’s pretty desperate and will take whatever He’s got. Laura comes in and says, Lucky? They hug, and she says, he’s home. He says, sorry it took so long, but she says, he’s right on time. Thank God. She’s so grateful. Now he’s able to help his sister.

Dante says he told Rocco that Lucky can’t be the donor, and he took it to heart. She says, so did Lucky, and he says he promised there would be another donor, but it’s a long shot, right? She says, it’s not impossible, and he says, she can’t get a donor from the National Registry. All of her relatives have been tested and they’re not a match. They’ve got to convince a stranger who doesn’t know Lulu to give her their liver when she’s in a coma and may not wake up.

Laura says she missed Lucky so much, and he says he missed her too. She says she heard what happened in Somalia. Does it hurt? He says, you should see the other guy, and she says, his hair is so long. He says he was thinking about cutting it, but she says, don’t. He reminds her of his father. She likes it. He says, it’s strange. He knows Luke is gone, but when he was halfway across the world, he expected to see him. She says she still has moments like that, and they sit down. She says she’s so sorry she wasn’t here to welcome him, and he says, that’s his fault. If he hadn’t gotten himself in trouble, if he’d been here with Lulu, she would be safe and healthy. She asks if he’s seen Aiden, and he says, he’s quite a kid. She says, he takes after his father, and Lucky says he hopes not too much. She says, he has so many wonderful qualities, but he says he credits Elizabeth for raising Aiden. She says she hopes their reunion was okay, and Lucky asks if Elizabeth mentioned anything. She says, no. Did something happen? He says he doesn’t know how to tell her, and she tells him, just say it. He tells her that Elizabeth said he can’t be a donor, and Laura starts to cry. She asks, why? and he says, the first round of tests checked out and he was a viable donor. Then they did a test to see if his liver was in good enough shape to donate, and it’s not. He’s so sorry. He’d do anything to save Lulu, but he can’t help.

Kristina says she appreciates Anna’s concern, but she’s thought about this a lot, and Anna asks where she was the night John Cates was murdered. She says she was at her mother’s house, and Anna says, not all night. Kristina says she went to visit her daughter’s grave, but Anna says, that’s not the only place she went. According to Chase, she drove that night or got a Ride Share or possibly Sam’s car. She had trouble remembering. Kristina says she remembers now, and Anna asks if she drove Sam’s car, but Kristina says, no. Anna says, hers? and Kristina says, no. Anna says, whose car? They know Alexis had hers. It was caught on camera entering the Quartermain estate. Kristina says, that’s not true. Alexis didn’t drive her car. Anna says, did she? when Michael barges in and says, stop talking. They’re leaving now.

Diane says she’s already committed several ethical violations by talking to Jason. Alexis is probably going to be convicted if she doesn’t do something. A trial date has been set and they need to put an end to this travesty. She wants him to convince her client to confess to a murder they both know he committed. She knows it’s a bad idea, but doesn’t see any other way to help. Alexis is her best friend, and she can’t let Alexis go down for a murder they know she didn’t commit. He needs to convince Sonny to do the right thing. He’s the only one Sonny will listen to. He says, Sonny already decided to turn himself in, and she asks if he’s at the PCPD. He says, he’s with Carly, filling her in, and she says, that makes sense. There are big implications for Carly. He says, that’s why they need to stop him.

Sonny asks why Carly thinks a P.I. is tailing her, and she says, at the very least, they know she was in Jack’s hotel room. He says, she’s the owner of the hotel and can explain it away, but she says, having dinner alone with him will raise eyebrows. He says, that depends on who’s tailing her and why, and she says, maybe it’s the false alibi. She bets it’s Martin. He wants to prove Alexis is innocent by proving Sonny is guilty. Sonny says, smart play. Alexis’s trial is coming up fast and Kristina’s not doing well. She’s going to do something to get the Fed’s attention. The whole thing is getting out of control. There’s only one thing to do. He’s going to confess to killing Jagger. She says she’s his alibi, and that means she’s going down with him.

Alexis asks how Martin got the photo, and he says, the P.I. he had tailing Carly. She asks what else he found, and he says, nothing yet. Brennan is no fool. He thinks Brennan already made his investigation. Alexis says, he’s kidding. Shocking. He says, it doesn’t matter, but she says, it does. Carly knows they’re onto her and she’s not going to get caught again. It’s not enough.

Anna says, they’re in the middle of an interview, but Michael says, the interview is over. Kristina knows better not to talk to the police without a lawyer and so does Commissioner Devane. Let’s go now. Kristina looks at Anna, who nods, and she and Michael leave. Michael looks at Anna and shakes his head as he closes the door.

Jason says, this can’t be the only way to save Alexis, but Diane says, it’s the only option. A trial won’t end well. Jason says, they could still find the gun. They just need time. Diane says, the Feds aren’t going to agree to a continuance, but Jason says, this can’t be how it ends for Sonny. She says, it’s not what she wants either. She loves Sonny too. She hasn’t worked all these years agreeing to be his lawyer because he pays her well. Underneath that gruff exterior lies a heart of gold. Jason says he had a deal with Cates. He finds out about Pikeman and Cates leaves Carly alone. Diane says, Cates was using him to bring Sonny down, and he says he created the situation. He should have done his job and killed Cates when he had the chance.

Sonny says he’s not going to let Carly go down. If he’d known what was going to happen, he wouldn’t have asked her to get involved. She’s got to see it a different way. She says she knows he’d never let the mother of his child go to prison for something he did, but Kristina’s not going to let that happen. If Alexis goes to trial, she’s going to start talking and get all of them convicted of something. He says he can’t promise there will be no consequences for her, but Carly’s not going to prison. He’s got to get things under control. He’s got a plane on standby. All she has to do is get Donna. She says, he wants her to leave the country? and he says, there are places with no extradition where she can’t be touched. She says, that means he’ll never see Donna again, and he says, Donna will be better off losing him than losing both parents, but Carly says she can’t do that.

Laura asks why Lucky can’t be a donor, and he says, there’s an anomaly in his liver from a parasite. It’s not dangerous to him, but it could kill Lulu. Laura asks if he’s sure he’s okay, and he promises he’s good. He’s healthy, but not good enough to save Lulu. The whole reason he came back was to help Lulu. He thought he could make up for not saving her when she was a baby. He already failed her once. Now he’s failing her again. She says, he’s not. He can give her his love and strength and use his incredibly strong will to convince her to pull herself through. He says, whatever happens is on him, but she says, he didn’t create Lulu’s illness. He’s not responsible for her recovery. He says, the reason he can’t donate is that he spent the last 13 years in combat zones. Everything he was exposed to, affected his body. It’s not a freak accident. It was the reckless life he chose to lead.

Dante says he was convinced Lucky was their miracle, and Elizabeth says, they’ll use every available resource to find a donor. If he needs anything, let her know. He thanks her, and she opens the door to find Olivia. Elizabeth says she’s glad Olivia is here. Her boy needs her. Elizabeth leaves, and Dante tells Olivia that Lucky can’t be the donor. She says she’s so sorry, and he says, that was their last shot. Now what do they do? She says, they’re going to do more than hope.

Laura says she’s not going to let Lucky beat himself up. It’s not going to do his sister any good. He had no way of knowing what was coming when he left, and he deserved to live his own life wherever it took him. He says his responsibility was here, but she says he also had dreams that had a profound effect on other people. Where would those doctors and patients be if he hadn’t provided security? He saved lives. Lucky says, but he can’t save the life that matters most, and she says, if his sister knew, she’d say she was proud of him for the work he’s done in this world.

At the café, Michael says he knows Kristina is worried about her mom, but that was a bad idea. She asks how he knew where she was, and he says he had Spinelli put tracking software on her phone. She’d asked for help. She says she didn’t ask him to invade her privacy, and he says, she refused to listen. Telling the police what she did could put her future in jeopardy, and likely make it worse for Alexis. She could be convicted for a murder that their father did.

Sonny says, it’s not easy, but they’ll fight this out, and Carly says she’ll support the family while it collapses. He asks what she’s talking about, and she says, Elizabeth called. Lucky’s not a viable donor. He says he’s sorry, and she says, Lulu is too sick to use the registry, and finding a private donor is a long shot. She’s going to die and there’s nothing they can do. That’s why she can’t leave the family. And Rocco and Dante need Sonny. She knows beating the charges is a long shot, but she has a chance while he doesn’t have one.

Diane asks when Jason could have changed the outcome, and he says, the minute Cates said Carly’s name. She says, he would have been thrown in solitary and his family would have believed he’d died in Greece. He says he had plenty of opportunity, and she says, Cates was a federal agent. The government is going to great lengths to find his killer. He can’t presume he could have walked away. He says, what happens to him isn’t as important as what happens to Sonny and Carly, and she says she doubts his sons agree.

On the phone, Anna says, it seemed like Kristina was about to admit to killing Cates, or admit to knowing who did… Of course (🍷) she knows what that means. Alexis is going to be convicted for a crime she didn’t commit. What are they going to do about that? Suddenly, an alarm goes off, and Chase comes in. He says, they have to evacuate, and she asks if it’s a fire. He says, no. A bomb.

Laura says, they all have flaws. Ask her husband about hers. Lucky says, she’s one of the strongest people he’s ever known. If he winds up half the person she is, he’d be good. She says, he is good. He’s a good man and strives to be better all the time. He helps others. He says he could have done that here, but she says she’s not so sure. She’d always known the day would come when he’d leave Port Charles and her. He’s so much like his father. Lucky was on the run with them when he was a just a little baby. By the time he was crawling, he was going off on his own adventures. Does he remember when they had the Triple L? Eventually, trouble caught up with them there too. We flash back to the diner explosion, and she says, Lucky was separated from him for weeks. Any other parents would have been beside themselves with worry. Of course (🍷) they knew, even at his tender age, he could take care of himself. Lucky says, they taught him how to survive, and she says she hopes they taught him how to thrive. The day came when he couldn’t thrive in Port Charles, but she’s always known he’d come back one day when he was ready. And here he is. Just when she and his sister need him the most.

Chase tells Anna that they’re checking the cameras in the garage now. Everyone has been moved back 200 feet and the hazard team is working on it. She asks how they knew, and he says, the dogs reacted to a suspicious package. They pulled the surveillance footage, and it looks like the package was placed in a blind spot so they wouldn’t get caught. Anna says, whoever did this knew what they were doing.

Michael says, Kristina going to the police was an impulsive decision. She didn’t count all the possible consequences. She says, just like she didn’t count all the possible consequences when she went to see Ava.

Jason says he hates how the fallout affected his sons, but they’re used to living without him, and Diane says, they’ll lose more than they’ll gain. There are people who love and need him, and it’s no longer a luxury for him to decide his life isn’t worth more than someone else’s. Imagine how hurt his sons will be. Think about that the next time he decides to sacrifice himself for someone else.

Carly says, Sonny will have to get his affairs in order and warn Dante. He doesn’t want Dante to be blindsided by this. She’ll talk to Josslyn. Sonny asks her to tell Josslyn that he’s sorry, and Carly says she agreed to help him. Now she has to deal with the consequences, but Cates is gone, and their kids are safe. He says, all it cost them was their parents.

Alexis says, one picture doesn’t prove anything, but Martin says, all he has to do is call into question the US Attorney’s narrative of the crime. They’ll never go for a conviction with a hole this big in the case. They’ll have to let her go and reopen it. Alexis says she’ll still be seen as a suspect, but he says, she won’t be their number one suspect. They’ll have to redirect their attention back to the real killer. It’s their only card to play. Alexis tells him, do it, and he says he’s already on it. She says, when he turns the photo over, if he feels tempted to suggest Sonny is covering for Carly, go ahead.

Lucky wishes there was something he could do, and Laura says, so does his brother. He was crushed to find out he wasn’t a viable donor. She thinks he felt like if he could do that, it would help make up for the bad choices that put him in prison. Lucky says he knows it’s hard for Laura to see Nikolas behind bars. He can understand Nikolas wanting to make almonds amends. She says, no one can bear every burden, and he says he’d settle for just one. Lulu went through so much when he was away. He wishes he’d been here for her to lean on at least once. They hug, and Laura says she thinks she’ll be leaning on him plenty before this is over.

Olivia tells Dante, done. She left a message for Nina to have her media contacts get the word out about Lulu’s condition. She texted an SOS to everyone on her contact list – friends and family, people in the old neighborhood, vendors, contractors, dishwashers… Just wait. People will roll up their sleeves in droves to get tested. He says he hopes it’s soon. Lulu is looking weak. She says she knows Lulu is in trouble, but so were the Mets in Game Six, and look how they turned out. Dante says, but they like the Yankees, and she says, today, they’re Mets fans. The same rules apply. Miracles happen. Like the Mets say, you gotta believe.

Kristina tells Michael that she wishes she could change what happened, but she can’t. He’s right to say she’s impulsive and there could be consequences she’s not prepared for. She’s living them now, so she’s going to listen to him and keep quiet – for now. But if it comes down to it, she’s not letting her mom stay in prison when she’s innocent.

On the phone, Anna says, if there are any changes, she’ll let them know. She tells Chase that Brennan is the last person they need help from. A guy from the hazard team tells them they can go back inside, and Anna asks if the bomb was disarmed. He says, it was a false alarm. There was no trace of explosive material. An officer brings the box and Anna wonders, what the hell is it? Chase suggests they open it and find out. (This is why he’s a detective.)

Jason says he doesn’t want to fail his boys again, but he doesn’t want to fail Sonny either. Diane says she gets that sacrifices come with the job description, but he can only make sacrifices if he’s here to do it. He says, they’re in danger of losing Sonny, and she says, Sonny chose this life. So did Carly. Jason says, still, she shouldn’t have to pay the price, and Diane says she promises if the day comes, she’ll stand up for Carly to the best of her ability. He asks, what are the odds of success? And she says, not great, but that doesn’t mean they don’t try. Her phone rings, and she says, speak of the devil. Sonny tells her that he’s with Carly and they need to talk now.

At the penthouse, Jason asks, what’s going on? and Carly says she’ll let Sonny tell him. On the phone, Sonny says he’ll let Diane know when it’s time. He asks if Carly filled Jason in, but she says she thought he should. He says he’s putting an end to this. He’s turning himself in. Diane is making a deal right now. Jason asks, what kind of deal? and Sonny says he’s confessing to Jagger’s killing and everything else. Everything the Feds want, and the statute of limitations allows. Jason says he knows it’s Sonny’s choice, and Sonny says, he’s going to give them everything, cop to it all, everything they’ve always wanted. In exchange for one thing. No one pays for Jagger’s death but him.

Alexis lies in her bunk when the guard yells, lights out!

Outside Anna’s office, Chase tells Martin that Anna is unavailable, but Martin says he’s got to see her now. It’s vital in getting Alexis out of prison. Chase tells him to take it up with the US Attorney, and goes into the office. Anna says, it’s not what she expected, and shows him a gun. She says, it’s a nine-millimeter, and he says, like the one Elizabeth and Ric saw Alexis dump from the bridge. Anna says, the gun Alexis said would exonerate her if it was found.

Laura tells Lucky that his sister’s body has been though an awful lot. Time is not on her side. He said he wanted to do something. If the worst should come to pass and they have to let their girl go – she cries – please stay with her and hold her hand when she says goodbye. He says, of course (🍷), and they hug. She thanks him and cries.

Tomorrow, Martin tells Alexis that she’ll be out by the end of the day; Ava asks someone if there’s a reason for this visit; Anna asks if Carly wants to change her statement; and Sonny says, someone has to be stopped.

🩺 Nothing More Than Feelings…

I’m still preferring the old Lucas, but I like his attitude.

🚑 After His Schedule Was Cut…

Another underused character. I’d love to see him have an actual storyline. I’d love to just see him show up again.

💖 Sweet Remembrance…

It was so sad when he passed away. They really seemed to be in love, even after all those years.

🍊 Down In the OC So Low…

After receiving her un-invitation, Alexis suggested if Shannon could host a trip, she could afford to pay the money she owes Johnny J. The women got mammograms and Fancy Pants Heather found out she had a 39% chance of getting breast cancer because of familial history. She was surprised that no one asked her how hers went when they were all swapping results. In Jenn’s interview, she said, an apology from Tamra was just words, but in Tamra’s interview, she said she was just being honest. She wondered if she should give Ryan a tampon since he was a little bitch, and Eddie told her, just stop. Good luck with that.

When I saw the amount of luggage, I wondered how long the trip was going to be. Six months? On the plane, Fancy Pants announced that it was Shannon’s 60th birthday and she was single. I could feel Shannon cringe. They stayed at an amazing, humongous penthouse where a tea was already set up, and drew keys for rooms. If Ramona had been there, she would have checked all the rooms, removed the key to her first choice, and had her suitcases unpacked before anyone else even got to the bowl.

Shannon gave all the women a bag of English-themed gifts, including a Burberry scarf that retails for $595. I knew this before the text showed us, since I thought, maybe I can afford a scarf, but nope. In her interview, Tamra wondered why Shannon was dishing out scarves like candy when she claimed she had no money to pay the lawsuit. Tamra and Fancy Pants discussed Shannon’s appearance on Jeff Lewis’s podcast, and the inconsistencies with what she was saying now. Not only did she come close to admitting the money was a loan, she said that she’d never thought about whether or not Johnny J. heard the accident. In Heather’s interview, she wondered why Shannon was telling her one thing, then saying something vastly different on Jeff Lewis. In Tamra’s interview, she said, Shannon was playing the victim.

After having some cotton candy, the women went on a Captain Rocket boat ride. The life jackets were actual long-sleeved jackets, which I’d never seen before. There was a bit of a tour, where they saw Big Ben and the new London Bridge. Tamra informed us that the original London bridge was in Havasu – so weird – and we saw a clip of that. They sped up, which some of the women enjoyed, and some not so much. Gina thought the cotton candy beforehand was a bad idea.

The women dressed for dinner, and Tamra wore a low backed jumpsuit that she compared to a mullet – business in the front and party in the back. They went to The Londoner for a five-course meal, and Fancy Pants finally spilled her feelings – as one does at a group dinner – about no one asking how her mammogram went. For maybe the first time ever, I felt badly for her when she told them her risk percentage for breast cancer. Everyone seemed genuinely surprised and sorry. They’d thought when they heard her say, yay, she was in the clear, but Fancy Pants said she’d been cheering for Gina who’d had a harmless lump.

Moving on, Katie said she and her family were going to Korea for her 40th birthday, and she would be meeting her birth mother who’d had her when she was 15. Yikes! Somehow, we circled back to the loan/gift thing, and in Tamra’s interview, she said Shannon told her it was a loan. Once more, this became a dinner table discussion. I always wonder what the servers think as they put plates in front of crying and/or screaming women. Shannon screeched that she was not a victim and was working on herself, and bolted. She went directly to the bar, not passing go or collecting $75,000. Gina followed, and Shannon showed Gina a text she’d found from 2018, where Alexis was clear that both she and her ex-husband Jim were suing Shannon and Tamra for defamation. We flashed back to Alexis insisting she’d had nothing to do with that, and Shannon said it was the smoking gun. Gina said, holy sh*t!

That’s right. She’s got receipts! Proof! Timelines! Screenshots! A text from 2018!

Next time, jazzercise; Gina says she’s trying to figure out how to be a friend to Fancy Pants; and Fancy Pants says, that was a lot.

If you’re craving more Orange.

👀 Last Weekend’s Watch…

Among the many series I’m in the middle of, I watched V/H/S Beyond on Shudder. While I love a lost footage theme, this one was hit and miss. I’d been intrigued by Justin Long’s Furbabies, but it wasn’t my favorite. There were some great moments overall, but two hours was too long. Some mild spoilers here.

https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/vhs-beyond-review

When it was first on, I got lost watching Lost and gave up on it. I decided to give it another go though, and I’m not hating it. In addition to my From favorite, Harold Perrineau, I’d forgotten Naveen Andrews (Abby, Planet Terror) was in it. I love a good binge, and this has enough episodes to go on for a while.

Speaking of From, here’s what happened this week. All spoilers all the time.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Finn and Elizabeth get in the elevator, and he asks, what’s with all the paperwork? She says, the hospital is facing budget adjustments, and she has to get it in by the end of the year. He says, budget adjustments such as staff cuts and supply shortages? and she says, hopefully, it’s not as bad as last year, but they’ll get through it. He says, they always do. When they come out, Portia says she needs to speak with Finn, calling him. Dr. Finn. He says, that’s very formal, and she says, actually she and Dr. Randolph need to meet with him. He says, of course (🍷), and she says, Dr. Randolph is waiting in her office. She leaves and he follows her.

Carly comes to the penthouse and Sonny asks if everything is okay. She says, you tell me, and he says, everything is okay with him. She says, really? Then why is Nina offering to sell her back her half of the MetroCourt? He says he doesn’t know. It’s the first he’s hearing about it.

Valentin thanks Nina for coming over and says, Laura will be here any minute. Nina asks if something happened with Charlotte, and he says, she’s recovering. She seems to think Anna shot her intentionally. Nina says, no. Charlotte told him that? He says, no. She told Laura that last night. Nina wonders why Charlotte would think that, but he says he doesn’t know. He didn’t get much of a chance to talk to Laura before she was called away on official business. When Charlotte was removed from ICU, the nurses convinced him to go home and get some sleep. He’s going back to the hospital as soon as Laura tells them what happened. There’s a knock at the door, and Valentin opens it to Laura. She says she wasn’t expecting Nina to be here.

Spencer walks into Alexis’s office and finds Esme there. She says, his Aunt Alexis isn’t here, but he says he came here to see her.

Trina walks into the gallery, and Ava says she thought Trina had classes today. Trina says, she did, but she came straight from her last one. Ava says, she’s not on the schedule, and Trina says she just didn’t want to go back to the dorms. Ava asks if everything is okay, but Trina says, no. She got into a big fight with Spencer yesterday. Ava says she’s sorry. It seems like a pretty serious fight. Trina says, it was. He gave her an old tomato ultimatum. Ava asks what she did, and Trina says she got up and walked out on him. She’s been avoiding him ever since.

Dante goes to Austin’s office and says he wants to ask Austin a few questions about his cousin Mason. Austin says he already spoke to Chase about this, and another detective, and Dante says, and he told them to speak to his lawyer. Austin says, exactly. So he doesn’t have anything else to say to Dante. Dante says, that’s cool. Maybe he can listen. He closes the door.

The guard lets Cyrus into Mason’s room, and Cyrus says, nice talking with him. He says, hello, to Mason, and tells him, the Lord instructs us to comfort the sick and the prisoner, and in Mason, he has both. Mason asks if that’s how Cyrus convinced the cop to let him in, and Cyrus says, he’s a man of faith. Mason asks what he’s doing here, and Cyrus says he’s here to show Mason the path to his redemption.

Terry thanks Finn for giving them some time, and he asks if he had a choice. She asks him to have a seat, and he says, this must be serious. Terry says, very serious. He’s going to need to hire an attorney. He and GH are being sued for malpractice.

Esme asks if this is about Ace, but Spencer says, he’s having a ball right now in daycare; he just saw him. She says, in that case, she’s working, so if there’s anything he needs to talk about, they can talk about it at dinner… at his grandmother’s apartment. He tells her that she was going to say dinner at home, and she says she was, but she didn’t. She and Ace are currently staying with his grandmother and Doc. Home will be the apartment they move into.

Ava says she’s surprised Spencer doesn’t know Trina isn’t the kind of woman who would take kindly to ultimatums, and Trina says, who would? Ava says, right on. So why does she think he did it? Trina says, they were talking about his relationship with Esme and Ace, and how it feels like there’s no room in his life for their relationship. So she spoke up and told him how she felt. Ava says, good for her.

Dante says, it sounds like Mason’s been hanging around Austin’s office and the ER for the past year. He sits down, and Austin says, please have a seat. His cousin Mason suffers from the misconception that they’re close. Dante asks if that’s why Mason has been bringing third parties into the ER for treatment, but Austin says he has no memory of anything like that. Dante knows how busy and crazy the ER can get. Dante says, right, and it helps if you’re not keeping a record of treating your cousins, friends, and co-workers. Maybe even treating them for injuries they sustained during criminal activities. But that would make him an accessory after the fact.

Cyrus says, all he has to do is confess his sins, and Mason says, that’s a long list. Cyrus says he’s talking about Mason’s very specific, very recent sins. Abducting Ava Jerome, intending to hold her for ransom, and reconsidering that option. Ava was in Mason’s car as he tried to decide his next move. He was confronted by Dex Heller. During the struggle, he was shot by Detective Dante Falconari. Mason will still be on the hook for the kidnapping charge, but the attempted murder charges will be dropped. All Mason has to do is admit he acted alone. Mason says, but he didn’t.

Laura says she thinks Valentin might prefer this conversation be private, but he says, Nina is fully involved. She took an enormous risk, deleting the security footage of Charlotte breaking into Anna’s room at the MetroCourt. She loves Charlotte. Nina promises Laura that her only concern is for Charlotte, and Valentin says he’s already told her that Charlotte thinks Anna shot her intentionally. Laura says, so she guesses he hasn’t spoken to Charlotte yet today, and Valentin says, no. He wanted to hear what Charlotte told her last night first. Laura says, she admitted to trying to push Anna out of Port Charles and away from Valentin, and he says, why? Did Charlotte tell her? Laura says, yes. It is exactly as they suspected. He says, Victor, and she nods.

Carly says, so Nina didn’t tell Sonny that she was selling her half of the MetroCourt, and he says, no. They don’t talk much about business, but it surprised him, since she loves running the place. Now she’s better friends with Olivia, so he doesn’t know. Carly says, something’s changed, and he asks if Nina told Carly why she wanted to sell it back. Carly tells him, Nina said that she was busy, but it was really strange, so she’s not buying it. Sonny says, they’ve got a lot going on, and Carly says, Nina’s got something going on. And she’s going to find out what it is.

Valentin says, so Charlotte confirmed to Laura that Victor convinced her to go after Anna? and Laura says, she said that her grandfather had written to her, and that he came to visit her at the boarding school. She got the impression they’d had some really long conversations. Valentin says, and Victor did most of the talking, and Laura says, she seems overly obsessed with protecting Valentin… from Anna. Nina says, so Victor convinced Charlotte that Anna was a threat to him. Charlotte did everything that she did because she thought she was protecting him.

Sonny tells Carly, let’s not jump to conclusions. He and Nina just got married. She has a relationship with Willow now. Maybe she just wants to spend more time with Amelia and Wiley. Maybe it’s that simple. She says, nothing is ever that simple with Nina. Ever. He says, like it is with her? (touché!) and she says, at least with her, you get full disclosure and transparency, whether you like it or not. He says, that’s true enough, and she thanks him. She says, is Crimson losing money? and he says, not that he knows of, but even if it was, why would Nina want to sell her half of the MetroCourt? Carly says, maybe she needs money to shore up the magazine, and he says, money’s not an issue for Nina. But let’s say Carly accepted her offer. Where would she get the money?

Finn asks if Terry can tell him the name of the patient who’s suing him and what the complaint is, and Terry nods to Portia. Portia says, the patient in question has died. His wife is the one filing the suit. Terry gives Finn the patient’s file, and he says, Dennis Muldoon. Terry says, they’ll need all the notes he has on the patient, and also everyone on staff who worked on the case with him. He says, of course (🍷). Does this mean he’s suspended? Portia says, he’ll still be able to practice, and Terry says, with some restrictions. He asks what they are, and she says, the hospital’s policy in a case like this is to allow the staff member to practice, but if it’s a potentially fatal case, he’ll need to request a second opinion before he can offer treatment or prescribe medication. Portia says, and because of his history of substance abuse, he’ll be required to do drug testing on a weekly basis. He says he sees. And he understands. That will be the easiest part of this process for him. Terry says, good, and Finn walks to the door. He asks how much time he has to find an attorney, and Terry says, he should start looking immediately. Finn leaves.

Ava puts two chairs near each other, and tells Trina, sit down. She says, Trina’s been a saint when it comes to Spencer spending time with Esme and Ace. She couldn’t stay quiet that long. No way. Sure, she has a history with Esme and this amnesia thing of hers is hard for her to swallow, but that aside, Trina’s in love with Spencer. And here he is, spending so much time with his ex and her baby, a baby that happens to be his brother. Trina says she does understand why he’s being so protective of Ace though, and Ava says, so does she. God knows where Nikolas is, so he’s no help at all. And he made a lot of mistakes with Spencer. She’s sure Spencer just wants to make sure Ace isn’t shortchanged the way he was. Trina said that herself. Trina says, she’s tried to justify all the time he spends with Esme and Ace, and Ava says, she’s been very patient, very understanding. Trina says she has, hasn’t she? and Ava says, she has, so what changed?

Spencer says, he doesn’t want Esme and Ace to move out, and Esme says, he’s made that perfectly clear, but it’s not up to him. He says he just doesn’t understand why she’s leaving all of a sudden, and she says, it’s not all of a sudden. It’s what’s best for her and Ace. He says, how? Right now, Ace has everything that he needs. He doesn’t understand how her taking him and moving in to a different apartment is going to be better for him. If she does that, she’ll have to take care of him all of the time. The only time she won’t have to take care of him is when he’s here at daycare. She says, that’s what mothers do, and he says, when they’re on their own. But she doesn’t have to be. He’s more than willing to step up and help her take care of him. His grandmother and Doc love spending time with Ace, so they’ll have a back-up if they need it. She says she can still drop Ace off to Doc and Laura whenever they’re available and he can help take care of Ace. He says, okay, so what would be the point in her leaving? She says, because she and Ace need to get away from him.

Austin says, Dante asked him to listen, and he did, but Dante says he’s not quite finished. Austin says, Dante doesn’t have anything. If he did have any proof of what he’s talking about, he wouldn’t be here fishing. Dante says he’s not fishing. Security footage is proof. Sworn affidavits from GH staffers who saw Austin and Mason and his friends is proof. And now they have his cousin handcuffed to a bed upstairs, and the more they get to know about his criminal activities, the easier it’s going to be to prove Austin was working with Mason in the kidnapping and attempted murder of Ava Jerome. Austin says he’s the one who saved her.

Mason says, Cyrus ordered him to abduct Ava, and Austin would be forced to testify at Cyrus’s medical hearing so he could get himself out of Pentenville. But the moment he’s on the hook, and Ava can ID him to the cops, Cyrus tells him to let her go. With all due respect, he couldn’t take that chance. He had to get rid of her. Cyrus says, these heavy drugs they have Mason on must have addled his brain to come up with such wild and false allegations, but he understands. Mason must be frightened, but tell him, did those drugs make Mason forget his last visit and how he explained to Mason exactly how it could end for him? Mason flashes back to Cyrus telling him, the pain you felt when you were shot, any pain you’ve felt during your entire life will pale in comparison to the pain you will feel during your long, excruciating journey into death, if you ever betray me again. Cyrus says he believes Mason remembers now.

Terry says, Finn is a good doctor, and Portia says, he’s a good friend. She hated seeing that look on his face. Terry says, her too. It’s hard enough losing a patient, but then to be accused of malpractice? Portia says she’s sure he took copious notes, and Terry says she hopes Portia is right. They need Dr. Finn and GH to be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Elizabeth sees Finn at the reception desk and asks, what happened? What did Terry and Portia want to talk to him about? He says, every doctor’s nightmare. I worked for a medical clinic for a while, and I can vouch for the fact malpractice insurance is astronomical.

Carly says she doesn’t know if she wants to buy back the MetroCourt, and Sonny says, Carly loves that place. She says, but she loves Kelly’s. She’s made some great changes, and in some ways, she thinks Kelly’s is a better fit for her than the MetroCourt. He says he doesn’t see it, and she says she knows the MetroCourt seems like it was better for her, but she loves both. She knows she can’t run both and own them, so she’s going to have to make a choice. He says, seems like an easy choice to him, and she says, but it’s not. Her mom gave her Kelly’s when she was in a really bad place. It was really generous of her. He asks if Bobbie is still away, and she says, yeah. She’s in Amsterdam, taking care of Luke’s affairs, and the last thing she needs is for Carly to abandon Kelly’s. Sonny says, Carly could always find somebody dependable to run the place, and she says, but if she decides to buy back the MetroCourt, she has to find someone to finance it. He says, I can – she says, nohelp – she says, do not offeryou.

Laura says, when Charlotte first woke up after the surgery, she asked where Valentin was, and she told Charlotte that he’d gone on a walk with Anna. Charlotte seemed to be genuinely frightened for his safety. He says, and that’s when Charlotte told her what she did, and Laura says, yes. She admitted to trying to push Anna out of town and away from Valentin to protect him. He says, they know she trashed Anna’s hotel suite. Did she admit to anything else? Laura says, she didn’t get into any specifics, and after what she’d been through, Laura didn’t think it was a good time to question her. Valentin says, of course (🍷), and Nina says, when Charlotte is a bit stronger, maybe Doc can talk to her again. It seems like she opens up to him. Laura says, he’s already agreed to come and visit her whenever they decide she’s ready for it, and Valentin says, good. Nina says, this whole thing is awful, but at least they know Charlotte wasn’t acting on her own. She was motivated by Victor’s hatred of Anna. Laura says, and he knew she was at a very impressionable age. He arranged to get her far away from home and all alone. Valentin says he should have never let her go to that damn place, but Laura says, he thought he was doing something good for her. And they all did at that time. Valentin says, Charlotte told her that he wrote a letter? and Laura says, yes. He says, excuse him, and goes to Charlotte’s bedroom.

Valentin looks around the room, touching nothing yet. His eyes light on Charlotte’s journal, but he keeps looking.

Elizabeth says she remembers finding Finn on the roof the night Mr. Muldoon died. He was devastated. And now his family is suing the hospital and Finn? Why? Finn says, they believe he was negligent in not diagnosing his cancer in time, and she asks if his symptoms indicated cancer. Finn says, he had a tapeworm he picked up traveling abroad. He traveled for work extensively, mostly in third world countries. So he ordered bloodwork, and the results came back with anomalies. Anomalies consistent with a lot of causes, tapeworm among them. G.I. distress, fatigue, weight loss. So he sent Muldoon home with a plan of treatment and a request for further testing. He called a few days later and said he was feeling much better. He went on another trip, and Finn had requested further testing, including a colonoscopy. He didn’t come in for two months, and that’s when Finn expanded the scope of treatment in order to get more testing. Elizabeth says, that’s when he found the cancer, and Finn says, yeah. He didn’t see it coming. Muldoon thought he’d be here for a couple of hours and then Finn had to tell him that he had cancer, and it was too late to start any treatment. He never left this hospital again. She says, Finn didn’t do anything wrong, and Finn says he believes he didn’t, but that may not matter.

Valentin checks under the mattress, and we see he’s rifled through the drawers. He spies a pile of books and takes down the top one. He opens it and sees it’s hollowed out. The tarot cards are inside, along with the letter, which he opens and reads. He says, Victor.

Spencer says, Esme is going to take Ace and leave because she doesn’t want him growing up thinking the three of them are a family? She says, that’s right. Because the longer the three of them live together, the harder that’s going to be on Ace when it ends, and it’s going to end. Spencer asks, what makes her say that?😐and she says, because it has to. He wants his own life, and she really understands that. He wants to travel when he wants to travel. He wants to spend time with the people he wants to spend time with. And sooner or later, he’s going to want to spend all of his time with someone. He can’t have that life and Ace. He asks, why not? They don’t have to be in a romantic relationship for him to commit to Ace. Or her.

Trina tells Ava, what changed was, she said one word. And Spencer lost it. Ava says, there’s got to be more to it than that, and Trina says, when Laura and Doc came back from their trip, Esme thought it was too crowded. So she decided to rent a place for her and Ace. Ava says, so far, so good, and Trina says, that’s what she thought. And Laura supported the idea. She even offered to co-sign the lease. Ava says, go, Laura, and Trina says, but when Spencer told her that Esme was moving out, she just said exactly how she felt. She said, finally. Ava tells Trina, that sounds perfect to her, but Trina says, it didn’t sound good to Spencer.

Mason tells Cyrus that he can cut a deal if he gives up Austin. He’s the dumb henchman, and Austin’s the smart doctor who planned everything. There’s plenty evidence to back it up too. Lots of people have seen them together, and Austin slept with Ava. He can tell the cops that Austin seduced Ava to get to her money, and when that blew up in his face, he asked Mason to take her. Cyrus’s name will never be mentioned. Cyrus smiles.

Dante says, Austin saved Ava? and Austin says, what he means is, he would never hurt Ava. Dante tells him, that’s not what he said. Austin said he saved her. Austin says he did save her that night at Windymere. Ryan Chamberlain was running around like a lunatic, Heather Webber’s got a great big hook… He’s sure all of this is in Dante’s files. Go read his files. Dante says he’s read the files. The thing he can’t figure out is what Austin was doing at Windymere in the first place. What’s the nature of his relationship to Ava Jerome?

Valentin comes out with the letter, and says, it’s all Victor. There’s no question; it’s his father’s handwriting. He hands it to Laura, and she says, oh my God. She reads: My dearest Charlotte, It is with a heavy heart that I must write to you and share my concerns about our family’s future. A family I cherish and would give my life for. I’m afraid your father has gotten weak, Charlotte. I had so much hope for him, but he’s forgotten how truly important family is since he’s fallen in love with Anna Devane. Anna has completely manipulated your father… Her extensive training in espionage has afforded her the ability to mask who she really is. Nina says, no wonder Charlotte was confused, and Valentin says, he weaponized her. Laura continues: Anna Devane is not who she seems; do not trust her. Not for a minute. And it is imperative you never forget… You must use any weapon you can to defeat Anna, because your father clearly will do whatever she asks. And she will use his feelings, she will use your father, and lead him into danger. She will lead him to his death. Nina says, oh my God, and Laura reads: My dear Charlotte, you are the only one who can protect your father from Anna Devane. You, his most cherished possession, must save him. To guide you, I’m giving you these very special tarot cards. They’re powerful tools, Charlotte. You’ll find them helpful. Use them wisely. Use them to protect and save your father, a man we both love dearly. Your ally and loving grandfather, Victor Cassadine. Nina says, sick bastard, and Valentin says, Victor found the perfect revenge.

Sonny asks when Carly said Nina made her the offer, and Carly says, this morning at Kelly’s. Nina said she’d been at the hospital all night with Charlotte. He says, that was a tragic accident. Anna’s torn apart by it; so is Nina. Charlotte is like a daughter to her. Maybe it hit Nina a lot harder than he thought. Carly says, maybe, but would he think that’s the reason she wants to sell the MetroCourt?

Trina asks if it’s bad for her to think Spencer is too attached to his little brother, but Ava says she thinks this is more about Esme than it is about Ace. What was Spencer’s ultimatum? Trina says, he warned her that if she made him choose between her and Ace, she wouldn’t like the choice, and Ava says, ouch. Trina says, they were closer than ever in New York, but it never seems to fail. Something like this will happen, then they’re further apart. It’s like they’re doomed to fail.

Cyrus says, Mason is a lot smarter than he thought Mason was. That’s a very creative solution. Mason says, it’ll work, but Cyrus says, not for him. He doesn’t want Austin tainted by Mason’s crime. He’s a respected doctor and Cyrus needs to avail himself of Austin’s services and support if necessary. Mason says, so he gets to rot in prison while college boy gets everything he wants, and Cyrus says, don’t be so resentful. College boy will get everything he deserves in good time. Meanwhile, Mason will be well-protected in Pentenville and lead a very comfortable life. And who knows? He might be eligible for release sooner than he thinks, provided he does exactly as he’s told.

Austin says, he and Ava are very close, and Dante asks if she’ll corroborate that. Austin says, what relationship doesn’t have its ups and downs? and Dante says, he’s looking at a lot of downs. They have a laundry list of charges they could file against Austin. Collusion, kidnapping, attempted murder… Austin says, come on. Dante said himself, he’s got Mason handcuffed to a bed upstairs. Dante caught him red-handed. Dante shot him. Dante says he did. Does Austin think it was Mason’s idea to kidnap Ava? Austin says he doesn’t know. Ask Mason. Dante says, come on, doc. He’s not the brains behind this thing; he was the muscle. He was following someone’s orders. Maybe Austin’s. Austin says, no, but Dante says, he’s the smart guy. Come up with the name of Mason’s boss. Maybe he’ll have a chance to save himself. He walks out of Austin’s office.

Sonny tells Carly, maybe Charlotte getting shot made Nina rethink her priorities. Maybe she wants to spend less time working and more time with the people she loves. Carly says, when she heard about Charlotte, all she could think about was Josslyn and Donna. If something happened to them, it would kill her. He says, nothing’s going to happen to the kids. They’re settled, and he’s got everything under control. Carly asks if he’s sure about that. Because Cyrus is walking around scot-free, and Sonny doesn’t have Jason watching his back anymore. He says he thinks about Jason every day, but he has eyes all over town, including Dex and Brick. She says she knows how important Brick is to him, and he says, Dex actually stepped up. If it wasn’t for him and Dante, Ava would be dead. So he doesn’t want her to worry. She’s got Drew back, so just enjoy each other. She thanks him and says, maybe he’s right about Nina. He says, she should think real hard about taking Nina’s offer, and she says she will. She tells him, watch your back, and goes to the door. He says he always does, and she leaves.

Laura gives the letter back to Valentin, who says, Victor turned his daughter into a weapon. He’s weaponized Laura’s granddaughter. He convinced Charlotte to target the woman he loves. How can he fight back against a child? Nina says, Victor’s dead, and now that they have proof he was behind all of this, they can just talk to Charlotte. They tell her that Victor was wrong about Anna, that nothing in that letter was true. Laura says, yes, but they have to look at this from Charlotte’s point of view for a moment. Her grandfather told her that Anna was dangerous, that she was a threat, and now in Charlotte’s mind, Anna has proven that by shooting her. Nina says, but it was an accident, and Laura says, yes, of course (🍷), and they all know that, but because of Victor, Charlotte actually believes that Anna shot her intentionally. She believes Anna wanted to kill her, and she wants Anna arrested for it.

Esme asks exactly what kind of commitment Spencer is willing to make, and Spencer says he has money. He can see to it she’s financially taken care of. She can quit this job if she so chooses, and he can share in the childcare responsibilities with her. He just wants to make sure his little brother is happy. Does she really think moving Ace out of his grandmother’s home is what’s best for him right now? No. They’re a team. They’re just not a romantic one. She says, that all sounds great, so let’s go for it. Why don’t they get a nice little house somewhere for the four of them? He says, for the four of them? and she says, her, him, Ace, and Trina. She bets Trina will think this is a wise plan. He says, come on, but she says, no, you come on. The longer she lives in that apartment with him and his grandmother, the longer she’s putting her life on hold, and that’s not fair to her and it’s not fair to Ace. He isn’t the only one who deserves to have someone special in his life. He says, so this isn’t really about Ace at all. He didn’t realize she’s so desperate to find someone new. She says she’s desperate to start her life again. She doesn’t have to defend herself to him or anyone else. She’s going to do what’s right for Ace, and yes, what’s right for her. If he’ll excuse her, she has work to do. She picks up some files and leaves the office. He makes a call and leaves a message. Please call him. He needs them. Things have gone from bad to worse.

Portia tells Terry that she’s never been in any malpractice lawsuit situation before. What’s the next step? Does the hospital have the same lawyer Dr. Finn does? Terry says, in her experience, hospitals are advised to have a separate lawyer. Dr. Finn will need to prove he didn’t do anything negligent, whereas they’ll have to prove it was a good decision to employ Finn. And they’ll have to prove they have a solid system of checks and balances, and that they don’t have a history of malpractice suits. Portia says she wouldn’t want to be in Finn’s shoes right now. A case like this could ruin your whole career. Terry says, and lawsuits like this have taken down bigger hospitals than GH. Let’s hope that’s not the case this time.

Elizabeth tells Finn, once we find you an attorney, they’ll tell you what you’re up against and how we need to proceed. He says, we? and she says, yeah. She’s going to help him with this. She was with him the night Mr. Muldoon died. She can testify to his state of mind, and the fact that he never said anything that would indicate he might have made a mistake with his diagnosis and treatment. He says, she doesn’t have to… but she says, please don’t argue with her. She’s going to help him do everything he can to clear his name. He says he doesn’t want her risking her position, but she says she’s not risking anything. And as Head Nurse, she wants the truth to come out. So moving forward, she suggest they get back to work, and tonight, they’ll start going over his notes. He thanks her and says, maybe they can start tomorrow. He needs a day to process this. His career’s in jeopardy… She takes his hand and says, we’re not going to let anything happen to you. He says he’s lucky to have her, and she says, yeah, he is. It goes both ways. She leaves.

Trina asks what she should do, and Ava says, it’s not like she’s talking to an expert in relationships here. She’s had her share, and none of them have gone the distance. Not that she’s giving up. She still believes happy endings are possible. Trina’s just at the beginning. Trina’s phone dings, and Ava asks if she thinks that’s the same person who just tried to call her. She thinks she can guess who it was. Trina says, Spencer. She doesn’t want to talk to him right now. Ava asks how long she plans to avoid him, but Trina says she doesn’t have a plan. She just doesn’t want to argue anymore, and she’s not giving in to his ultimatum. Ava asks if Trina has told him how she feels, the way Trina just told her, and Trina says she guesses not. Ava asks if she still loves him, and Trina says, yes. Ava says, sit down with him. Talk to him and keep cool and don’t point fingers. Just tell him how she feels and why she feels that way. Then listen to him and be respectful of how he feels. Trina says, okay, and thanks Ava, hugging her. She says she knows Ava would tell her the right thing, even if it was hard for her to hear. Ava says, what are friends for? Maybe Trina should reply to Spencer’s text. Trina picks up her phone.

As Austin goes by the reception desk, Elizabeth gives him a message left for him. He opens it, and it says: DON’T BE FOOLISH. IT CAN BE DEADLY. He crumples it up, and then sees Cyrus across the hall. He continues to watch as Cyrus waits for the elevator. When it comes, Cyrus winks at him before getting in.

Tomorrow, Portia tells Curtis that she got some news today; TJ needs to talk to someone right away; Sasha says she’ll walk off the set; and Cyrus brings Austin tidings of great joy.

🪧 Should Have Stayed Closed…

I watched The Open House on Netflix last weekend. Most of it wasn’t bad, but nothing stellar. Kind of like a Lifetime thriller with a bigger budget. I would have been fine with that, except the ending was like a big F-U in exchange for the time I spent watching it. Before the credits, it said the film was in loving memory of someone, and I wondered if it was the guy who was supposed to write the ending.

🦃 Tofurkey Trotting…

Stop in tomorrow for soap and snipes at Beverly Hills. Until then, stay safe, stay asking the host before bringing plus ones or more to Thanksgiving dinner, and stay not being foolish. It can be deadly.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny says he’s been dealing with a high-level security firm lately. Has Anna heard of Pikeman? She says she has, and he doesn’t want anything to do with him. He says, too late, and she asks, how involved is he with them? Dante comes out and asks if he’s interrupting, but Sonny says, it’s always good to see him. Dante says he realizes he hasn’t seen Sonny since his boy Dex called in a dead body outside of GH.

Carly says she’s so happy Avery is having a sleepover with Donna, and she has somebody to make cookies with besides the moss bowl🎍. Avery says, because Donna’s too little to bake, and Carly says, she is. There’s knock at the door, and Avery says, mommy! She lets Ava in, and asks why she’s here. She’s spending the night with Mama Carly and Donna. Carly says, that’s a good question. What’s going on? Ava says she just wanted to see her little girl.

Gregory is sitting in Alexis’s office when she walks in, and he says, don’t tell him. She called him here because there’s a big story about to break. Or maybe a scoop she can’t trust anyone else with. Political? International? Alexis says, nothing like that, and he says, don’t keep him in suspense. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work. She says, it’s not about work, and he asks what it’s about. She says, him and his ALS. Someone else knows about it.

TJ says he’s home, and asks how Molly is holding up. She says, today’s been good for a lot of reasons, and he says, let’s hear one. She says she’ll give them to him. Her foot is feeling so much better… and this. She shows Valiant to him, and he laughs.

On the phone, the prison guard asks where the doctor is. They need him in the library now. Drew tells Cyrus to stay with him, and Cyrus sees a bright white light. He opens his eyes, and he’s in a suit, lying on a cot in a single cell. A bell clangs, and he gets up. He finds the door is locked, and says, this is wrong. He doesn’t belong here. Laura says, of course (🍷) he does, and he sees her standing outside the cell. She says, this is exactly where he deserves to be for eternity.

Dante says, Dex is literally in the wrong place at the wrong time again, and Sonny says, Dex was just throwing something away in the dumpster in the alley at GH, and sees a body. Can he imagine? A body? He’s a good citizen and made a call. Dante says, Dex told him the same thing, but normally, Sonny’s people don’t call his people, so it’s a little weird. Sonny says, they do what they can. He just hopes they find whoever did this. Dante says, they’re working on it, when Kristina joins them. She gives Sonny a kiss, and asks what he and Anna are doing together. Anna asks if Dante brought her here, and Kristina says her car broke down on the way home and she just had it fixed. She called Dante to give her a ride and he offered to buy her a drink, so here they are. Sonny asks if everything is all right, and Kristina says, all good. Sonny says he’s glad Dante was able to pick her up, and Dante says, maybe Kristina just has to figure out what roadside assistance is. Kristina says, that’s hilarious, and he says, let’s go to the bar. Kristina says, the bar is crowded. Let’s just pull up a chair – she brings a chair over to the table – and sit with dad and Anna. Dante gets a chair, and they sit at the end of the table. Kristina asks if they’ve figured out why they almost got shot.

TJ says he loves that after eleven years, he’s still learning new things about Molly. How did this reunion between her and… She says, Valiant, and he takes the stuffed horse, saying, how did this reunion between her and Valiant happen? She says her sister, and he says, Sam? She says, no, Kristina.

Gregory asks what Alexis is talking about, and she says, Tracy Quartermaine called her. He says he had dinner with Tracy tonight. It was pleasant. They didn’t fight, and got along pretty well. He wonders why Tracy would have called her about him, and she says, because when he went to get the check, she noticed that his hand froze or shook, and he wasn’t able to pick up the card from the table. He says he passed it off as a symptom of old age; too many years of writing on a blackboard. Alexis says, unfortunately, she wasn’t convinced. She’s very self-absorbed, but she’s blunt and doesn’t miss a trick. She called and specifically asked Alexis if there was anything wrong with him.

Carly says, this is a surprise. Is Ava here to pick up Avery? Avery says she wants to stay. Please. They just made cookies, and she and Donna are going to watch the movie Frozen. Ava says, of course (🍷) she can stay. She wouldn’t steal Avery away from her movie. Carly gives Avery a plate of cookies, tells her, share with Donna, and Avery runs out. Ava says she’s sorry for dropping by unannounced, but she had to see Avery and the moss bowl🎍. Carly asks, what’s going on? Does this have anything to do with Avery’s new nanny?

Drew says, Cyrus has lost consciousness, but he’s still got a pulse. How long before the doctor gets here? The guard says, they’re on partial lockdown. A fight broke out in C-block, and the doctor can’t get through. Drew tells Cyrus, it’s okay; hang in.

Cyrus says, no. This isn’t real. It can’t be. He’s hallucinating. Laura says, he’s not hallucinating. He’s dying. He says, no. He won’t accept that. He’s not done. Not even close. Inside the cell with him now, she says, he spent his whole life wanting everything his way, and using any means possible to get it, but there are some things he can’t control. No matter how determined, how powerful, or how ruthless he may be, in the end, they’re just mortals. He says, this can’t be the end – we see she’s outside again – not like this. She says, he built this prison. From his own selfish ambitions, his cruelty to other people, and his lust for power. If he didn’t want to see this as he’s passing from one world to the next, he should have made different choices. He says he tried.

After they order drinks, Kristina says she’s going to freshen up. Sonny and Anna aren’t off the hook. She wants to hear everything when she gets back. She leaves, and Dante says, she’s not going to let up. Sonny says, she’s a force of nature, and Anna says she likes that. Dante says, she’s got good instincts too. Were they talking about the shooting? Did they learn something new? Sonny says, they’re just throwing things around, and Anna says, they didn’t arrange to meet or anything. She was having a couple of glasses of wine, and his father joined her. Dante says, this is as good a time as any to talk about the fact the WSB might want Anna dead. He looks at Sonny and says, or someone else wants to kill him.

Kristina is drying her hands in the bathroom, when Trish walks in, and Kristina thanks her. Her brother and dad were exactly where Trish said they’d be on the terrace. Trish says, of course (🍷). Just doing her job. Kristina says, she’s very good at it. Would she like to be on the Board? Trish is an excellent host. Kristina’s not just saying that either. She’s in the hospitality industry. Trish says, that’s right. She works at Charlie’s. Is she still going to be able to work at Charlie’s when she opens up this youth center? That is what she’s doing, isn’t it? Opening up a youth center for LGBTQ+ kids?

Gregory asks what Alexis told Tracy, and they sit down. She says she told Tracy that as far as she knows, he’s in good health, which they both know is a lie. He says he’s sorry. He knows she’s not comfortable with the situation, but he appreciates her covering for him. She asks how much longer he thinks he’ll be able to cover this up.

Ava tells Carly that she just wanted to give her daughter a kiss goodnight. Now that she has, she’ll be on her way. Carly says, come on. Sonny calls her out of the blue and asks her to take Avery for the night, which is no problem; she loves having Avery. But the timing of this coincides with Sonny’s random decision to get Avery a new nanny, which doesn’t make any sense, because Pilar is capable of taking care of both girls. Ava says, there was an incident at the park involving Pilar, and she and Sonny decided to replace her. Carly says she knows what happened at the park. Sonny told her. Pilar’s a wreck about it. She feels awful for taking her eyes off Avery. Ava just looks at her, and Carly says, Avery told her about her new nanny, Betty. Avery says she’s really nice. Ava says, she is, and Carly says, really? Because Josslyn ran into her at the pool and she doesn’t agree. So who’s telling the truth?

The guard asks how Cyrus is doing, and Drew says he can’t get a pulse. He’s going to start CPR. Again, I’m no medical professional, but shouldn’t he have done this by now? He starts to pump on Cyrus’s chest, and tells the guard that they need a defibrillator.

Cyrus says he tried to be better for Laura, and she says, you know how you used to quote those Bible verses? They contained so much wisdom. Wisdom about what really matters in life. Does he remember the one, the greatest of these is love? He says, of course (🍷). First Corinthians, 13:13. Inside with him again, she says, how many times did he quote that? and he says, a lot. Back outside, she asks if he understood it. Really understood it. Because he’s been given so many opportunities to love and be loved, and he threw them all away. He says, the one he regrets throwing away the most is with her. He wanted to love her.

Ava tells Carly that she can’t imagine why Josslyn doesn’t like Betty. Avery thinks she’s great. Carly asks if Ava does. Does she like Betty? Ava just looks at her, and Carly says, yeah. When she saw Ava in Sonny’s office, she seemed really tense, and she doesn’t seem any more relaxed now. Ava says, it’s really none of her business, but Carly says, Sonny made it her business when he called her. What’s intriguing to her is, Ava and Sonny didn’t appear to be fighting, and that says a lot. Ava tells Carly that if she has something to say, say it, and Carly says, Ava and Sonny aren’t fighting. Ava brought in a new nanny no one likes, and instead of Avery spending the night with the new nanny or Ava, Sonny wants her to stay with Carly. You know what that tells her? That Ava’s up to her old tricks.

Anna says, Dante’s father came up with an interesting theory, and Dante says, let’s hear it. Anna says, the releasing of all of her WSB files, along with the information that she was a double agent, could be more than just a sick, posthumous revenge tactic of Victor’s. Dante says, they have to figure out what more there is to it. Victor was hellbent on revenge. He was director of the WSB for a lot of years, and he had access to Anna’s file, which he obviously could have read. Sonny says, the timing seems too convenient, and Dante asks, how so? Sonny says, somebody in the WSB pool released all that information to make her look bad. They want her out. She’s a good agent, and they don’t want her looking around. Dante says, that explains a lot.

Kristina tells Trish, yes. She’s starting up an LGBTQIA+ youth center here in Port Charles. The idea is to provide temporary housing. Why does she ask? Trish says, Nina was telling her about it. She brags about Kristina all the time. She thinks the work Kristina is doing is amazing. Kristina says she didn’t know Nina felt that way, and Trish says, for what it’s worth (🍷), Nina and her dad are really proud of her, and she thinks what Kristina is doing is great. All the lives she’s going to touch and save… Kristina says she doesn’t know about saving lives, but she’s hoping to create a safe space where people can just be themselves. They don’t have to worry about being bullied or judged or worse. Trish says she wishes a place had existed like that for her brother. His name is Teddy, and when he was fifteen years old, their parents threw him out of the house. Kristina says, that’s terrible. Does Trish mind if she asks what happened? Trish says, he was guilty of being himself. Then one day, their parents caught him fooling around with a boy, and their dad went ballistic. He said, Teddy, no son of mine is gonna be gay (I doubt that’s the word he would have used, but this is daytime), and they forced him out of the house. Kristina says, at fifteen; that’s terrible. Does she know where he ended up going? Trish says, he took off for the city, and they never heard from him again. Last she heard, he was living on the streets. She doesn’t know if he’s safe or if he even has money for food. This is why it’s incredible that Kristina’s opening up this center. It’s so important. Kristina thanks her, and Trish says she’s got to get back to work. She thanks Kristina for all the Teddys of the world, and it personally means so much to her. So good luck to her, and don’t forget to invite her to the opening. Kristina says, she’s got it, and Trish leaves.

Molly says she knows Kristina isn’t TJ’s favorite person right now, but she really seems to be trying. It was nice of Kristina to come over and check on her. TJ says he can tell the visit brightened Molly’s day, and she says, it did. It was really nice to just hang out together again. He wonders if Kristina asked about being their surrogate, and she says, not a word. They talked about old times together and the youth center she’s starting. He says, but Molly was thinking it, wasn’t she? and she says she has to admit, she’s been thinking about a lot of different things, and she wants to talk them all out with him. Because whatever happens next, they have to be on the same page.

Drew continues chest compression, and tells Cyrus that he has to fight. On the phone, the guard says, they have to get lockdown lifted and get the doctor through. They need a defibrillator in the library… If you don’t get it down here, this man will die!

Cyrus says he was so careful. He made sure to leave Laura breadcrumbs that he knew she was smart enough to follow, and they all led straight to him and the realization that he was her brother. She says, him and Martin, and he says, and Martin. He was always the good son, but he had his faults… They all do, but Marty never made the big mistakes, the life-altering ones that he and Laura did. She sits on the cot and says she definitely made her share of mistakes. He says, yes, and the more he dug around in her history, the more he felt like they were kindred souls. They’re so much alike, and if she could just recognize that, maybe he wouldn’t feel so alone anymore. He’d have someone to confide in. Someone who cared about him, and in return, he’d have someone to take care of, his little sister. She smiles and says, he could have just told her that she was his sister. Instead, he manipulated her because he wanted to control the situation, but those manipulations led to his ruin. And eventually, they led him to hold her hostage. He says, but he would never have hurt her, and she says, it’s just the two of them now. There’s no need to lie here. There’s no point anymore. He created all of this with his pride, with his anger, with his hurt feelings. Isn’t that what’s really at the bottom of this? She hugs him, and says, all of that pain, all of those hurt feelings. He starts to cry, and she says, because hurt people lash out, and hurt other people. She steps away and is outside again, and says, but nothing like he’s capable of. He says, the night he held her hostage, there was a moment where he thought he was going to die, and he was going to take her with him so he didn’t have to be alone… But then he looked at her and couldn’t do it. He knew the police were out there, and gave them the opening, and they stopped him. He did it for her.

Alexis says, Gregory told her weeks ago what might happen to him – the cramping, the slurred speech, the imbalance. She’s already seen evidence of those things. He says he knows she has, and she says, no matter how hard he tries to cover this up, his body is starting to betray him. How much longer does he think he can hide this?

Carly says she’s right, isn’t she? Ava’s in trouble, and Sonny’s helping for Avery’s sake. Ava asks how far Carly is going to push this, and Carly says, Ava came by just to say goodnight. Is Ava going to tell her that’s all this is? Ava says, if the only way to end this interrogation is to take Avery home, then she’ll go get her daughter. Ava heads for the kitchen door, and Carly says, if Ava does that, she’ll tell Sonny that she came by and grabbed Avery. The girls will be disappointed, but hell, they’ve seen Frozen a thousand times. Go ahead. Take Avery.

Dante says, the only thing they know for sure is the gun that was used should have been locked up in a WSB facility in Berlin, and Anna says, and the only people with access to it would be inside the agency. Dante says, there they have it then. It’s got to be an inside job. Whoever it is knew Victor had her followed. Maybe they gave the files to him. Sonny says, they knew once it was released, that Anna would be disgraced and arrested. She says, they got one part right. She was certainly disgraced. Dante says, but she wasn’t arrested. She got in front of it, and resigned from the WSB. She says she was forced to, and he says, be that as it may, she’s walking around free. She says she doesn’t know if looking over your shoulder every five minutes is free, and Dante says, that explains the shot at her. Whoever it is thinks she’s a threat. They either took the shot themselves, or had someone else do it. Kristina comes back, and says, do what themselves? Take a shot at Anna?

Kristina tells TJ to be honest. How is he feeling about all this? Does he really want to be a father? He says, more than anything, and she says, does he want the child to have his DNA? He takes her hands, and says he’d love their child no matter what, and he knows they’ll make the best parents a kid ever had, regardless of their DNA. She says she knows he’d love their child no matter what, but he didn’t answer her question. Does he want their child to have his DNA? He says, would that be his preference to have their child be biologically his? Yes, he’d like that. She asks how soon down the road he’s thinking. A year? Two? Three? He says he’s ready now, and she says she is too. To all of it. She wants a baby, she wants him to be the biological father, and the sooner the better. They kiss, and she says, which means, they need to find a surrogate. He says, which leads to the next question. Will it be Kristina?

Gregory says, Alexis is right. His symptoms have gotten more frequent and they’re getting more severe, which makes whatever time he has left that much more precious before Chase and Finn find out he has ALS. She says, he has one son that’s a doctor and one son that’s a detective. How long does he think it’s going to be before they figure it out? He says, these might be his last days, even weeks, before they notice, and they have to start being afraid of him. She says, they’re not going to be afraid of him; they’re going to love and support him. Gregory says, once they know, all they’re going to see is his disease. Right now, they look at him and still see their dad, not someone whose terrible decline is looming on the horizon and wondering if his end is near. She says, if it makes him feel any better, for what it’s worth (🍷), none of them really know how much time they’ve got left. He says, she’s right, but he wants to enjoy what little time he has left without them worrying about it getting cut short, and his ending will be terrible. So he just wants to stop and savor these good times while he still can, while he’s still able to. Is that so wrong?

Dante says, they’re just speculating, and Sonny asks if he can talk to Kristina for a second. They step away, and Dante asks Anna, what’s going on? Something tells him that if he hadn’t stopped by, she wasn’t going to call and fill him in. She says, fill him in on what? Speculation? He asks if they weren’t supposed to be working together, and she says, when there’s something to work on. He says he thought she wanted to be bait and try to draw out the shooter, and she says she thinks she’s reconsidered. She’s not on a mission. She’s not undercover. She doesn’t have a badge. She’s a private citizen, and she happens to be one who can protect herself. He asks if she’s sure about that. What happens if his old man’s theory turns out to be right, and it is someone inside the WSB? Someone who wants her out of the way.

Inside, Sonny says he has a problem with Kristina driving a car that’s not reliable, but she says, it’s fine. It’s in the shop; it’s getting fixed. He says he’s going to buy her a new car, so she doesn’t have to worry about it breaking down, but she says, he’s not. He’s already done enough for her as it is. He’s getting the youth center up and running, and that’s way more important to her than a new car is. So no. She’s not letting him buy her one.

Inside the cell, Laura says, Cyrus let the police shoot him for her? and he says he didn’t want anything to happen to her. He needed to protect her from him. She looks startled, and he says, she doesn’t believe him, does she? She says she does believe him. He made a very brave choice that night to let both of them live on. She thanks him for that. And in doing so, he gave them both the opportunity to do better. He laughs and says, she doesn’t need to do better, but she says, of course (🍷) she does. She was angry with him and let her anger blind her at times. She was quick to judge him and turned her back on him, when she should have been reaching out to him and trying to help him. So that leaves a lot of room for her to do better. He says, but she couldn’t have redeemed him. That doesn’t fall on her shoulders. She says she knows that now, because in the end, they all have to save themselves. But does he want to? Outside again, she says, because he’s the only one keeping him locked in here. She walks away, and he begs her not to go. He pushes on the door, and it opens.

Cyrus opens his eyes, and begins to breath. Drew says, there he is. Come on. Hang in there. The doctor’s on his way. Cyrus grabs Drew’s wrist, and Drew says, all right.

Gregory says, it wasn’t fair of him to put Alexis in a position to keep his secret, but she says, it wasn’t fair of her to put him in a position to tell her his secret when he wasn’t ready. It’s his diagnosis. He tells someone when he’s damn well ready. He says he appreciates that, and he intends to tell Chase and Finn, he promises. But in the meantime, he’s going to enjoy every minute he has left living a normal life. He’s grateful for her confidence and their friendship. She smiles.

TJ helps put Molly’s foot up on the coffee table, and she says she’s been thinking about this a lot, and she talked it through with her mom. She doesn’t want to ask Kristina to carry their child. He asks if she’s sure, and she says, yes. Although she’s certain Kristina would do it for them, she doesn’t think Kristina fully understands the demands or the commitment it would mean for her. He says he’s honestly relieved. Kristina doesn’t need the added weight of being their surrogate while she’s trying to get the youth center started. He thinks it will be better for all of them if they register with a service. Work out the legal and monetary arrangements, and start interviewing candidates that actually know what to expect. She asks how he knows so much about this, and he says he started doing some research just in case they ended up going this route. She asks why he didn’t tell her, and he says he didn’t want to pressure her with this right away. She says she doesn’t feel pressure at all. They both want this, and that means they feel hopeful. She snuggles on his shoulder, and he says, so we’re having a baby, and she says, yes. She asks if Valiant heard that; they’re having a baby.

Kristina asks if Sonny knew that Nina was bragging about her, but he says, no, but it doesn’t surprise him. Nina is proud of her. She says, Nina told Trish about her starting up the Corinthos-Davis House, and he says, now Nina can see for herself that Kristina is going to change the world. Kristina says she kind of thinks she’s starting to see that for herself too. Admittedly, she still has her doubts… He says, everyone has doubts. Does she know what you do with doubts? You just move through it. She hugs him.

Anna tells Dante, if Sonny’s right, and she’s being targeted by someone inside the Bureau, the bodyguards aren’t going to do her any good. He asks why she says that. Because no one can beat the big bad WSB? She says, because they’ll never come at her the same way twice. Sonny comes back with Kristina, and says he’s going to take her home. He thanks Dante for dropping her by, and says goodbye to Anna. They leave, and Anna tells Dante, if she’s being targeted, the shooting at the MetroCourt pool was a one-off. If it had worked, fine; she’d be dead. But it didn’t work. And if her enemy is indeed inside the Bureau, then they’re not going to want to call attention to themselves, and they’re going to go underground and wait months, a year maybe, before they try again. Does he really want to be glued to her side for that amount of time? He says, yeah, and she says, it’s going to play havoc with his job, not to mention his personal life… He says, she’s driving this point home pretty good; he thinks he gets it. She says, here’s another point. As she mentioned, they won’t use the same method twice. The Bureaus got a lot of dirty tricks up their sleeve, and it’s impossible to safeguard against all of them. Even if someone was glued to her side 24/7, which they’ve agreed he won’t be. He says, all right. He’ll stand down, but if something changes, she has to let him know. She says, he’ll be her first call. He has her word.

Carly says she thinks Sonny wants Avery here because she’s safe, and so does Ava. Avery comes in and says, they paused the movie. She and Donna need more cookies, and Carly says, all right, taking the empty plate. Ava says, while Mama Carly is getting the cookies, why doesn’t Avery give her the biggest hug ever? Avery says, ever? and hugs Ava. Ava says she’s going to take it home and keep it all night. She loves Avery so much. Avery says she loves Ava too, and Ava says she’d do anything for Avery. Carly gives Avery the cookies, saying, no more. Avery runs off, and Carly says, whatever Ava and Sonny are up to, she hopes they know what they’re doing. Ava thanks her, and leaves, giving a nod to the moss bowl🎍 as she passes.

Cyrus is receiving oxygen on a stretcher, and a paramedic says he called ahead to GH. They’re expecting them. Let’s go. They take Cyrus out, and the guard says, that man’s alive because of Drew. Drew says, not just because of him. The guard could have refused to let Drew help him. He had a big part in that too. The guard’s phone rings, and he says, the paramedics just took him to GH… Got it. Drew is about to leave, and the guard asks where he thinks he’s going. Drew asks what he means, and the guard says, he was busted for fighting. He’s taking Drew to solitary. Drew says, is he kidding? but the guard hustles him out.

Tomorrow, Brook says she’s not willing to risk it for Tracy; Chase wants to ask Austin a few questions about Gordon; Sonny says he came here to make someone an offer they can’t refuse (he’s required to say that at least once a year); and Cyrus needs someone to give all his money away.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Sonny says, Nikolas is dead, and Ava killed him? She says, yeah. She killed him.

Willow folds laundry, when Michael says, busted. She says, it was worth it, and he asks if she isn’t supposed to be sleeping. She says she tried, but she couldn’t. She’s too happy to sleep.

On the phone, Sam says she’s glad Molly is getting the rest she needs, when Dante walks in. Sam says, tell Molly that she’ll see her when she gets home tomorrow. And that she loves her. She loves Kristina too. Dante asks, how’s Molly? and Sam says, she’s doing okay. She’s a little banged up, but luckily that’s it. It could have been a lot worse. She was going to check on Molly, but Kristina insists she has everything under control. She’s glad they made up before the accident. (Did I miss something?) He says, she’s a good sister, and she says, what about him? He was supposed to be home two hours ago. He looks wiped. He kisses her and says, after a shower, she’ll recognize him again. She says she’ll grab them a beer and when he comes downstairs, he can remind her of who he is.

Josslyn goes to Dex’s place, and says she knows he told her not to come, but she’s here. Did he really think… She looks around at all the candles burning, and says, if he told her not to come, who exactly was he expecting?

Portia asks what Curtis said, and he says, let me go. Literally, let him go. She says she thinks he’s talking crazy, and she’s not going to let him go. He says, it’s not her decision, it’s his, but she tells him that he doesn’t know what he’s saying right now. He tells her that he knows exactly what he’s saying. He doesn’t want to see her again.

Sonny asks what she did with the body, and she says, they thought he disappeared. Sonny looks over the parapet, but she says, no. He didn’t go into the water. Mason has the dead body. He has the evidence and he’s blackmailing her. If she doesn’t do anything he wants, he’ll expose her. Sonny says, that’s not going to happen.

Ava says she was so mad at Nikolas when he told her that he got Esme pregnant, and Sonny says he punched Nikolas in the face when Nikolas told him. That was his son’s girlfriend. Ava says, Spencer was mad too. When he got the idea to file for custody of Ace, she agreed to help him. Sonny says, by killing his father? but she says, no. Nikolas foolishly recorded a confession, taking responsibility for Esme’s death. Esme went over the turret and obviously survived, but she still had the recording and she gave it to Spencer. Sonny says, so he could blackmail his father, and she says, exactly. When Nikolas found out about it, he went crazy. He came after her and told her that he was going to take Avery away from her. Sonny says, bastard, and she says, it broke her. She lost Kiki, and she won’t lose Avery. She’ll do anything she has to, to protect her. Avery is her life.

Dante comes downstairs and says he loves that Sam is a night owl. She hands him a beer, and he says he loves when she’s lying in bed when he gets home too, but he likes that she’s here waiting for him. Sam says, he flatters himself too much. She wasn’t just worried about Molly. She’s also working on a case. Why is he home so late? He says, her first, and she says, Sasha and Cody of course (🍷). He says he’s been thinking about that too. Cody said Sasha called him Cyrus before she stabbed him, but that doesn’t make any sense. Sam says, now she’s under lock and key at Ferncliff, and he says he has the feeling she has a suspicion as to why that all happened. She says, Gladys. Remember when they ran into them at the hospital? Sasha said she was ready to end her guardianship with Gladys. Sam could tell Gladys wasn’t totally on board with that, and of course (🍷) she denied it, but why was Gladys so hell-bent on getting Cody arrested and sent to prison? And does he think it’s just a coincidence that Gladys sold Brando’s garage to a holding company controlled by Selina Wu?

Dex says, Josslyn caught him. He’ll be here soon. He kisses her, and she says, he? He says, the super. In case she didn’t notice, the power is out in the building. She says, the lights are on in the hall, but he says, auxiliary batteries. First scorching day of the year, and everybody turns their AC on full blast, and the wiring in this old building can’t take it. She asks, how long until the super fixes it? and he says, it usually takes a few hours. She says she kind of likes the candles, and he says, how about the heat? She says she’s sure they can find some way to deal with it, but first, she needs to know what’s going on. He says, the only reason he didn’t want her to come was because of the heat, and she says she hasn’t heard from him in 32 hours 46 minutes and 37 seconds, and he asks if she’s counting the hours. She says, he left her alone at the MetroCourt pool yesterday because Sonny called him. Sonny had a job for him – on his day off – and he said it would be a very safe, simple task. She didn’t hear from him until an hour ago. What’s going on? He says, it was just a surveillance job. It took longer than he expected. She says she knows there’s more. Please tell her. He says he found a dead body tonight.

Michael wonders if this is the kind of excitement Willow had in mind when she married him, but she says, it’s better. What about him? He says, being here together, folding their kids’ laundry, who’d have thought something like this could be so perfect? She says, it was one of the things she thought about when she was waiting for the bone marrow transplant, and Michael and I both say, folding laundry? She says she knows it’s silly, but it was the little things that she may never get to do that kept her up at night. She took comfort in thinking about being with him and their kids, doing the little things. Somehow, it gave her hope. She didn’t want to close her eyes because she thought she may never open them again. But she couldn’t sleep tonight because she knows now that she’s going to live, and she never wants to miss a single moment like this. He takes her hand.

Portia tells Curtis that she thinks this is too much too soon. It’s only his second day of recovery after his surgery, so… He says, this is not about the surgery. This is not about recovery. She says, but he’s asking her to leave him. It just doesn’t make any sense. He says he’s not asking, and she says she’s not leaving. She’s his wife. He says, on paper maybe, but they never consummated the marriage, so an annulment should be no problem. She says she’s not giving him an annulment. She knows he’s hurting right now, but she loves him. Big baby Curtis asks if she loved him when she found out he kissed Jordan, and she tells him, don’t do that please, but he says, no. Did she love him when she couldn’t stand to look at him for weeks on end? When was the last time they even spoke to each other before he became Curtis the victim. And when they did speak, what did they say? She says, they had an issue, yes. She wanted to make sure he didn’t still have feelings for his ex-wife, but when she saw him laying by the pool (that would be lying, but I’ll let it pass), and she thought she might lose him… He says, she thought what? Oh, this poor sucker needs me now? He has news for her – he doesn’t. He doesn’t need her pity.

Sam asks if she’s seeing something that’s not here, and Dante says, it’s not like Gladys is some criminal mastermind. Brando’s garage was sitting there, waiting to be sold. Maybe Selina Wu offered the most money for it. She says, what about when Cody and Spinelli tried to bluff Gladys into changing her witness statement? Spinelli said, Gladys wasn’t budging until Selina Wu stepped in and patched things up. Selina takes Gladys’s side, then she changes her witness statement and drops the charges against Cody? Coincidence? He says, there might be a connection, but does that mean Gladys has anything to do with Sasha stabbing Cody? Unless she’s got some proof. Sam says she doesn’t like Gladys, and he laughs. She says, Gladys just rubs her the wrong way. And before he says it, she knows as a P.I., she should never let her personal feelings get in the way of a case, but she doesn’t like Gladys. She gets the feeling Sonny doesn’t either. Maybe he only tolerates her because of Mike and Brando. He says, now Sasha, and she says, yes. He says, she knows how Sonny is with family, and she says, Dante wasn’t there when Mike went through his worst with Alzheimer’s. It killed Sonny seeing his father suffer that way. So maybe that made him more tolerant of Gladys. Dante says, it’s possible, and she says, on one hand, out of nowhere, Sasha stabs Cody. Then on the other hand, Gladys hates Cody, and tries to get him arrested and sent to prison for stealing a bracelet. Then she forms this relationship with Selina. Sam is desperate to form a connection. He says, she’s not the only one.

Portia says, Curtis told her last night in the ICU that he came to the MetroCourt pool because of something Sam said; that you never get enough time to spend with the ones you love. He told her that he loved her. Curtis says he was on heavy medication. He didn’t think… Never mind. She says, he didn’t think there was a possibility he may never walk again? but he tells her, that’s not what he was going to say. She sits on the bed, and says, he got a devastating prognosis last night. And she had to deliver it to him. She’s had to do that before with other patients, and they all react differently, but some of them react the same way he did; going on the internet, looking at all these worst-case scenarios. It just left them feeling like… He says, why doesn’t she stop telling him how he’s supposed to feel? and she says she’s trying to explain something to him. That he’s not the only spinal surgery patient to react this way, but he couldn’t be more wrong about why she’s here. She doesn’t pity him – he lets out a sigh, which he’s been doing periodically – she’s here because she loves him. He says, just stop, but she says, no, because he feels alone right now, but he’s not alone. She’s right here. Her, him, and Trina, they’re going to face this together. Big baby Curtis says, there is no way in hell that’s happening. Man, he is annoying the crap out of me.

Dex tells Josslyn that he saw this guy at the hospital. He matched the description of a guy who Sonny saw harassing Austin the night before. That might have been who Austin was talking to when Elizabeth caught him outside his office. Dex called Sonny, decided to follow him, and when he got outside, he found the guy’s body in the alley. Josslyn says (in case we didn’t get it the first time), so Sonny had Dex following Austin, then Austin had a meeting with some guy in his office, and a few minutes later, the guy was dead? Dex says, yeah. Isn’t she going to ask him? She says, ask him what? and he says, if I killed him.

Ava tells Sonny, Nikolas was enraged. He was so full of hatred. He said, by giving Spencer that recording, she had taken his baby away from him. She tried to reason with him, but he said he was going to take Avery away from her. He said he was a Cassadine, and there were place he could go where she’d never find Avery. And the last thing he said was, I’m going to tell Avery that you said goodbye. He started to leave, and she had to stop him. Sonny asks how she stopped him, and she says, there was a little statue on the table. Not thinking, she grabbed it, and she hit him. And he fell… and he was… Sonny says, dead. She nods, and he asks if she’s going to tell him how this Mason guy fits in here.

Portia says, Curtis told her that he wanted to know more about Trina. He said he wanted to get to know her better. He said… Curtis says, will she stop telling him about what he said before and listen? Listen to what he’s saying now. He will not be a burden to Trina. In fact, he thinks it’s best if he doesn’t see her again. Oh come on. It’s not like she has to tote him around, and they certainly have enough money to do whatever. Portia gets up and says, their daughter was sitting outside that ICU room for 24 hours straight. She was desperate to hear any word about how her father was doing. Trina broke down when she told Portia that the first words he said after waking up were, where’s my daughter? He has no idea how much that meant to her. She wants to be here. She wants to help him. She wants to support him. He says, parents are supposed to support their children, not the other way around. Just because he’s Trina’s father doesn’t mean she should be stuck nursing a pathetic man in a wheelchair. Portia asks if he knows how many people have suffered the same injury he has. And much worse. Some of them are in a wheelchair, yes. Some of them aren’t so lucky, but their lives are far from pathetic. They know their lives might not be what they’d once been, but they didn’t quit. They didn’t give up on their families. Is that what he’s going to do? If he can’t be the father he wants to be for Trina, then he’s not going to be a father at all?

Ava tells Sonny that she checked to see if Nikolas had a pulse, and just as she realized he didn’t, Austin started banging on the door. Sonny says, she let him in? and she says she tried to get rid of him; he wouldn’t leave. She told him that she had a business call and sent him up here to wait. She went down and got a wheelbarrow and brought Nikolas down to the tack room. She put him in a storage closet there and locked the door. She turned around, and Austin was standing there. He’d seen everything. Sonny asks if that’s when he blackmailed her, but she says, no. He helped her.

Josslyn says, Dex didn’t kill him, and he says he didn’t think she thought so, but… She says, he never would have told her anything if he had, because he wouldn’t want to lie to her. She knows he’s always going to do everything in his power to protect her. He says, everything? and she asks if the body’s still there. He says, no. He called Sonny, and Sonny told him to call the cops. She says, what? and he says he was surprised too. He figured Sonny would tell him to walk away, but Sonny told him to call the cops and tell them what happened. She asks, why? and he says he’s not sure. Maybe because it was right outside GH, and Sonny thought the surveillance cameras caught him. Maybe he wanted the body found for some reason? Either way, Dex is sure Sonny didn’t think the cop that would show up would be his son. She asks if Dante hassled him, and he says, Dante questioned him, and he told him exactly what Sonny wanted him to say. She asks if Dante thought Dex killed this guy. He’s the one who called it in. Dex says, he was just doing his job. But Dante knows he works for Sonny, and if any of Sonny’s guys had called it in, Dante would have been suspicious. He’s also very protective of Josslyn. She says she gets that, but she doesn’t need his protection. He says, Dante loves his father, but he knows a lot of what Sonny does, what he does, isn’t exactly legal. Dante’s just worried he’ll drag her into it somehow. Josslyn says, nothing and nobody is ever going to come between them, and they kiss.

Willow says, Michael helped her so much. His love was so important. Doctors talk about patients having the will to live. That’s what he and the kids gave her. He says, she fought so hard, and she says, because of him, and Wiley and Amelia. And because she was so determined to have moments like this. Deep down, she knew she might not win that battle, but she also knew that if she didn’t, Wiley and Amelia would be okay, because they had him; a father who would love them, put them first, and protect them. He says, when she wanted to talk about a future without her, he had to make himself say the things she wanted to hear. She says she remembers it was hard for him, and he says, they had to talk it through. She was weak and he had to reassure her, but never in his heart did he accept losing her. Maybe it was denial or clinging to hope, but he couldn’t imagine life without her. Now he doesn’t have to. She says, so he’s basically saying he was right all along, and he says he usually is, kissing her.

Sam asks why Dante was home late, and he says, someone reported a dead body in the alley outside GH. She says, any witnesses? and he says, one. He was sort of cooperative; he had a pretty convincing story. She says, story? Sounds like he’s not convinced. Does he know the guy? He says, Dex Heller. One of Sonny’s guys finds a dead body in the alleyway, who does she think his first call is to? She says, Sonny, and he says, right. And what does Sonny probably tell him? To walk away, right? But instead, Sonny told him to call the cops. Why would he do that? She asks if there was an ID on the body, and he says, yeah, but that’s on a need-to-know basis. She says, okay. So this on top of Cody getting stabbed. She thinks maybe they need a little distraction. I need a little distraction from the squeaky sounds their couch is making as they move around on it, and start getting busy. There’s a knock at the door, and Sam says, go away, but it’s persistent. Dante gets up, and opens the door to Cody, who says, what’s going on? Then falls inside.

Wiley is concerned that if Willow goes to his baseball game, it’s dirty and some of the kids will have germs. He doesn’t want her to get sick again. Michael says he’s amazing to be so concerned about his mom, but she’s getting stronger by the day. Willow says, the doctor told her that her immune system is getting stronger too. That’s what fights off the nasty germs. So she might not be able to come to his game next week or the week after, but she’ll definitely be there before the season’s over. Wiley says, then he’ll have his dad and his mom there, and Michael says, he sure will, but right now it’s very getting late. So finish his cookie, and then he has to go back to bed. Wiley says, it isn’t fair. Why does he have to sleep when everyone else is awake? Michael says, Amelia is asleep. Amelia starts to cry, Wiley says, uh-oh, and Willow laughs.

Curtis says, Portia is Trina’s mom. She shouldn’t want Trina tied down with him either. She’s a young woman in college. Portia should be encouraging her to get out there and live her life. She says, he can still be a part of Trina’s life. He’s still here. He says he can’t move his legs. He doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to walk again. He’s not the man she fell in love with, and he’s damn sure not the man who saved Trina from Victor Cassadine. And he can’t be anything less. She says, it’s just going to be different, that’s all, and he says, how? Pity? Consolation? Support? He doesn’t want any of that, least of all from his daughter. She says, they just want to be here for him, and he says he’s the one who’s living this. If she really wants to help, she’ll walk out the door and not come back.

Just a thought, but he would always be less than the man who saved Trina from Victor Cassadine. It’s not like it was going to happen again. Well, on a soap, it might, but you know what I mean. Curtis is just being a big baby, and it’s driving me nuts.

Sonny asks why Austin would want to help Ava, and she says, he tried to get her to call the cops. She convinced him that they’d never believe her; everybody knew how angry she was at Nikolas. He says, that’s for sure, and she says, after a while, Austin agreed to keep quiet, and they decided to leave Nikolas in the storage closet and decide what to do later. Then so much happened. Laura showed up here looking for Nikolas, and Ava realized she had to find a way to convince everybody he’d left town. Then she had to go to go to Portia’s wedding. She couldn’t afford to raise suspicions at all. He says, and all the while, Nikolas’s body is in the storage closet, and she says, yeah. She and Austin agreed to meet after the wedding. They decided they’d bury Nikolas in the Pine Barrens. It’s the safest place. That was the night Ryan and Heather showed up, and all hell broke loose. Austin was hooked and she shot Ryan, and Esme gave birth to Nikolas’s baby, and Heather… He says he gets it. It was a complicated night. She says, it certainly was, and then the cops came, swarming the island, looking for clues as to exactly what happened. it wasn’t long before they started to search the tack room. He says, and they found a locked storage closet, and she says she and Austin were there; they were jumping out of their skins. She tried to stall them. She told them she didn’t have a key. That wasn’t a problem for Dante though; he pried the door open with a crowbar. He says, and no Nikolas, and she says, at first she thought she didn’t kill him after all. Then a few minutes later, Mason started toying with them. He said he’d followed them out to the island that night, and he’d seen everything. Sonny says, and he took Nikolas’s body, and she says, with her DNA all over it. He’s been blackmailing her ever since. Sonny says, to spy on him.

Dante helps Cody to the sofa, and Sam asks what he’s doing out of the hospital. Cody says he checked himself out, and Dante says, they’re going to check him back in. Sam says she’s calling GH, but Cody says, no doctors, no hospital. Dante says, Cody is in rough shape, but Cody says he’s okay. He just overdid it a little. Sam says, they’re taking him back to GH, and he says he was in the hospital after Sasha stabbed him. If he goes back, it will just be worse for her, and she didn’t mean to hurt him. Sam said it herself; none of this makes any sense. Sam leaves to get the first aid kit, and Dante asks if Cody is sure he knows what he’s doing.

Amelia on her knee, Willow says she loves Wiley’s daddy so much, that’s how she knew she had to come home. She’s not going anywhere, so he has no reason to be afraid now. He asks if he can stay up all night, and Michael says, he can stay up as long as Amelia does. He tells Amelia, stay awake.

Cody’s wound is rebandaged, and he says he’s not going back to the hospital. Dante says, he has to understand something. Sasha’s already in Ferncliff for what she did to him. Him dying will make it worse for her, so maybe leaving the hospital wasn’t the greatest move. Cody says he knows. He just thought… He doesn’t know what he thought. None of this makes any sense. Sam says she doesn’t disagree with Cody, but Sasha stabbed him in front of a lot of witnesses. Her being at Ferncliff is what’s best for her and everyone else. Cody says, she doesn’t belong there, and Dante says, if that’s the case, they’ll figure that out. Oh yeah, sure they will. The same place that mistook Doc for Ryan for years. Cody says, Sasha was doing so well. She was getting stronger, then all of a sudden, out of nowhere… Sam says, Sasha is fragile, but Cody says, she isn’t fragile. She was doing so well, and it happened out of nowhere. He would bet everything he has that this has something to do with Gladys. Dante says, nothing is going to get solved tonight, and Cody needs to rest up. Cody says, he’s right. He’s sorry for crashing in on them. He’ll call a car to take him back to the Q’s. Dante and Sam make some faces at each other, and Sam rolls her eyes and goes upstairs.

Dex and Josslyn feed each other fruit (?), and she says, he still looks pretty hot. She rubs an ice cube on his chest and says, this better? He says, getting better and better. She looks hot too. He slides an ice cube up her arm to her neck and kisses her. They get busy. I’m finding this more awkwardly forced than romantic. Is this from the non-union writers?

Sonny gives Ava a martini, and she thanks him. He says he thinks she earned it. She’s been through hell. She says, it’s still there. She told him, Mason wants all the information he can get on Sonny and this Pikeman company. She told Mason that she couldn’t come up with anything, and that’s when he came up with the idea to replace Avery’s nanny with Betty. Betty said if Ava didn’t cooperate, they’d hurt her mother. She thinks they already have her. He says, nothing’s going to happen to Delia, but she says she doesn’t know if it’s going to be that easy. She knows Sonny is powerful, but Mason is genuinely afraid of these people that he works for, so they’ve got to be pretty powerful too. He says, don’t worry about it, and she says, okay, but remember the part where Mason has Nikolas’s body. She doesn’t want anything to happen to her mother, but she doesn’t want to go to prison. He says, she’s not going to prison. Her mother’s going to be safe. He’s going to take care of everything. He promises. I want a Sonny.

Curtis asks if Portia knows what he’s been thinking about the last 24 hours he’s been stuck in this bed. She says, please don’t do it, but he says he’s been thinking about what his life would have been like today if it weren’t for her lies. Even if he were stuck in a wheelchair, he would have known his daughter for twenty years now. Twenty years she took from him. She says she’s sorry. She explained to him… He says, sorry doesn’t matter now. Those years are gone because of her. He can never have them back. (I’m thinking, well, you’ve got plenty of time to catch up now…) Right now, he doesn’t give a good damn whether she wants to stay with him out of guilt, pity, or because she wants the insurance money – it ain’t happening. He doesn’t trust her. He doesn’t know her. And he doesn’t want her. Get out. He yells that he said get out, and she leaves.

Willow and Wiley are asleep on the sofa, and Michael asks if Amelia finds this memo as fascinating as he does. It’s the last one and he promises they’ll go off to Dreamland just like those two. Her mother and brother are pretty amazing. So is she. Her dad just happens to be the luckiest guy in the world.

Cody sleeps on the sofa, and Sam and Dante turn out the lights. In the hallway, Dante says he’s sorry he has a friend who thinks he can show up at any time. She tells him, stop it. Cody’s lucky to have a friend like him. Dante says, he has bad timing, and Sam says she thinks he’s going to sleep well tonight. They kiss, and she says, there’s no reason why they can’t pick up where they left off. He says, that’s the second best idea yet, picks her up, and carries her upstairs.

Dex and Josslyn get busy in bed as the candles burn down. Hey, where’s that super?

Ava leans against the parapet and remembers Sonny saying he’s going to take care of everything. He promises. She says she hopes he means that.

In his car on the phone, Sonny says he needs them to find somebody for him… Dead? Sure. Alive would be better.

Tomorrow, Curtis asks someone for a favor; Sam asks how Molly would feel if she never had kids; Felicia asks, what on earth is going on in here; Carly tells Nina that she’s going to get back every single thing she’s lost; and at Ferncliff, Sasha calls out, asking if anyone can hear her.

👨‍❤️‍👨 Still Going Strong…

I liked his Nikolas better than the other Nikolases. Nikoli? The part really suited him.

💌 Passing It On…

It’s amazing how he’s used his illness to help others, both on the show and off.

The Real Nightmare Housewives of Orange County

I saw Emily on Watch What Happens Live just before I watched this, and I dunno. She’s super thin, and claims she just used Ozempic to give her a jump start, then worked her ass off in the gym and changed her diet. She looks good, but doesn’t look like herself. The weird part is, I’d just been thinking how pretty she looks and how much like a Disney princess with those hairbands. Not anymore. She’s too slinky to be a Disney princess.

Shane gets his nose hairs waxed, and I can’t watch. Emily’s hoping everyone has a great time and relaxes at her pool party, and asks, how you can be fighting when there’s an adult Slip N Slide? Where there’s a Tamra, there’s a way. Jenn brings son Greyson to meet Taylor and her daughters Kennedy and Alexis for some boardwalk fun. In Jenn’s interview, she says, Taylor feels like they’re long lost sisters from Oklahoma. They take a ferry to the boardwalk action, and have corndogs. I think about the corndog I’m planning on eating at this year’s county fair. Taylor passes on the corndog because of her cotton candy reputation. She can just imagine. Shannon joins them.

Tamra meets Fancy Pants Heather for coffee, and wears camo pants I could live without. Fancy Pants says she felt like she was on an apology tour when they were at dinner, and Tamra says, the Jenn thing is fuzzy. Jenn assumes the stories Tamra is getting about Ryan are from a non-Fancy Pants Heather, who claims she and Ryan were just friends prior to Jenn hooking up with him. Tamra has some stupid idea about getting them together and the three of them being friends like they used to be. Jenn says, Tamra’s airing of her past dirty laundry is causing problems in her relationship, and Shannon identifies with the others discussing a relationship they’re not a part of. We flash back to various discussions about John.

Gina and Travis meet Matt and his new girlfriend, along with the kids, and in her interview, Gina says she loves having a big, blended family. The whole thing is pretty boring, as she goes blah-blah-blah about how she helped Matt since it was best for the family. She says, it wasn’t about making it go away, but learning to live with it.

Emily and Tamra meet for drinks, and I still don’t understand why Emily didn’t make a break for it while she could, since she’s now been replaced by a thinner, more swanky clone. Emily asks if Tamra’s relationship with Shannon is the same as it used to be, and Tamra says, it’s getting there. Emily tells Tamra that Fancy Pants was talking about Shannon’s relationship, and Tamra says, it makes her feel like Fancy Pants isn’t a good friend, and Shannon needs to know. Emily asks Tamra not to throw her under the bus, which is probably like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

Ryan seems supportive… The pool party commences, and Taylor suggests Jenn might like to be in a relationship without everyone else’s input. In Fancy Pants’ interview, she says she loves that Emily is assertive, but it’s off-putting when she shifts to being aggressive. Since Emily doesn’t mean it, she can get past it – usually. Like Fancy Pants has never been for real aggressive. Cue the video of her kicking everyone out of her house and pushing people aside before the entrée was even served. Jenn, dressed like she’s going to a funeral complete with hat and veil, is skeptical about being at a party with Tamra, but in Emily’s interview, she says, Tamra was drunk, and they’ve all been there. We flash back to each of them drunk to the point of more stupidity than usual. Emily not quite admits that she and Shane made sex tapes, and in Fancy Pants’ interview she said she doesn’t even like seeing herself on sitcoms.

Other Heather and Jenn have a sit down. Heather says, Jenn threatened her and was assuming she was the source of the Ryan gossip. We flash back to Tamra relaying everything to Jenn, saying, Heather told her, and Heather says, Jenn plays dumb. No surprise, the others discuss them as they watch from a distance, and Fancy Pants gives a report. In Tamra’s interview, she says, the whole reason she brought non-Fancy Pants Heather is because she wanted the three of them to talk it out. I’m not sure who she thinks she’s kidding. Nobody ever talks anything out on this show. They pretend to sometimes, but then it’s back on the merry-go-round. Heather tells Jenn that if she found out her man did what Ryan did, her heart would be broken, and in Jenn’s interview, she says, it’s not like it’s a Nancy Drew mystery, where she’s getting new information. Heather asks where her feelings are, when Shannon inserts herself, saying maybe Jenn wants to keep things between her and Ryan. (The nerve!) Emily comes by to check in, presumably as hostess, but come on. Other Heather says, Jenn isn’t standing up for herself and she loves Jenn. At this point, everyone is squeezed in there, and on the side, Taylor says she feels like she’s married to Ryan and she’s sick of him. Tamra tells Jenn that she overdrank, and apologizes. She says she just wants Jenn to be honest and strong. Jenn says she and Ryan didn’t know where things were going to end up, and they were taking some time. However, her idea of taking time wasn’t taking time with other people. What she didn’t need though, was everyone bringing it up again. In her interview, she says, the cycle is repeating itself. A Slip N Slide came out, along with a champagne gun.

This was so stupid I can’t even. The water got disgusting pretty quickly, and in Emily’s interview, she says, everyone in Orange County has a spray tan, and every pool party has brown water. Blech. Jenn makes an early exit, and in her interview, she says she’s exhausted. She can’t fake it as well as some of these people. Fancy Pants puts on a wetsuit to use the slide so her body doesn’t touch the ick. In her interview, Emily says, she’d envisioned a pool party with hot friends in bikinis. What she got was Shannon in Spanx, and Fancy Pants looking like a whale trainer at SeaWorld. It’s not Girls Gone Wild. It’s not even Cougars Gone Wild. It’s not even Grannies Gone Wild. It’s Nobody’s Gone Wild.

Jenn and Ryan go to a healer/therapist where the healer makes weird ohm-ish sounds. Their eyes are closed, but Ryan looks like he’s going to laugh, and I can’t blame him. Gina confesses in her interview that she buys jarred sauce, and tells Travis that she got approved to take the real estate exam. She’s going to shadow some agents in the meantime. In Gina’s interview, she says, passing her first exam was a confidence boost. Travis asks if she’s happy that her life took a turn, and she tells him that quitting drinking played a huge part in her processing the trauma she’d gone through. It scares her to think of being stuck in her former life because she’s so happy. Travis says, it’s a real fresh start.

Tamra and Shannon meet with Vicki for drinks and food (mostly drinks), and Vicki, who’s dating new man Michael, actually looks pretty good. Tamra was also on WWHL tonight, and she and Emily agreed that they thought Vicki would be back on the show. I don’t know if they had some inside knowledge or they were just throwing it out there, but Andy didn’t disagree. Shannon says, the tres amigas are back, and in Shannon’s interview, she says, it’s elevated to crazy fun when she gets together with Tamra and Vicki. They tequila up, and we flash back to all the shots they’ve ever had together. At least it felt that way. Shannon says she had a rocky year with Fancy Pants, but now it was better, and Tamra wonders if Fancy Pants can be trusted. Shannon says she believes Heather has a vault, but Tamra thinks otherwise. It gets confusing here, because out of the blue, Shannon tells Tamra, don’t bring it up. She and Tamra leave the table, and Shannon tells Tamra that her relationship is over if whatever-it-is is aired. Okay, they got my attention, but then…

To be continued…

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

Portia says she can’t reach her daughter, but Curtis says, she might have her phone off. Portia says, that would explain the voicemail, but not the texts. The texts should still be going through, but they’re not. He says, she might be out of range, when Jordan and Dante come along. Portia says, no, no, no. Not Trina. Jordan says, they hate to bother her at work, but they have some questions about an ongoing investigation, and Portia asks, what kind of questions? Curtis says, has something happened to Trina?

Spencer says, this can’t be the last of him and Trina; they’re just getting started. Trina says, they’re on the same page, and he tells her, be careful. She promises she will, and says, they’ve got this, but first, they’ve got to call for help. He says, without his escort discovering her, and she says, any ideas?

Sonny comes out of the hospital elevator looking like he has a headache, and Laura asks if he’s here to check on Anna. He asks how Anna is doing, and Laura says, she’s out of surgery. They just moved her to ICU. He says he’ll take any good news where he can get it, and she says she takes it he doesn’t have any leads on Spencer. He says, or Victor, but don’t worry. When he finds Victor, he’s going to pay more than he’s ever paid before.

Michael wonders why he has the feeling he’s about to get ganged up on, and Brook says, that’s a little extreme. Sasha says, Willow has something she wants to tell him, that’s all, and Willow says she just needs him to really listen. He says he always listens to her. What’s wrong? She says she wants to get married, and he says, good, so does he. She says, today.

Valentin raises his head, and sees Anna looking at him. He says, if that’s not the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Welcome back.

Michael says, Willow wants to get married today? and she says, tomorrow at the latest. Brook says, it makes sense, now that the transplant’s been postponed, and Sasha says, and who knows for how long, since Liesl is still missing. Willow says she doesn’t want to wait… She can’t wait. Time is running out. She wants to marry him as soon as possible, so they can have as long as possible together as husband and wife. Please consider it. He says, there’s nothing to consider. He’ll marry her whenever, wherever she wants.

While Victor eats breakfast, a guard brings Obrecht in. Victor says, there she is, and may he say, she looks divine. She says, no, he may not, and he says he does appreciate her joining him on such short notice. Breakfast? She says, it looks more like a funeral. All they need now is a body.

Valentin asks the doctor how Anna is, and she says, still at risk for post-op complications, but she was lucky. She’s on track to make a full recovery. Anna thanks her, and tearfully says she’s grateful. The doctor says she’ll be back to check on Anna, and leaves. Valentin says he doesn’t think luck had anything to do with it. God is an Anna Devane fan. He thought he’d lost her. She says she thinks he saved her life, but he says he’s the reason she got shot in the first place. She tells him, don’t do that, and he says, Victor wanted to hurt him, and was willing to take her away from all of them to do it. She says, he didn’t, and Valentin says, thank God he didn’t. She starts to cry, and says, right before she blacked out, she saw something. It was a wall of faces of all the people she loves. She saw Robin, and Emma, and Noah, and him. That’s what helped her fight because she’s not ready to leave any of them just yet. She thinks he’s stuck with her. He says he’ll hold her to that, and kisses her.

Portia says, Jordan needs to tell her what’s going on right now, and Jordan asks if they can go to her office. Curtis says, if this is about Trina, he needs to come too, and they head for Portia’s office. Dante asks Laura if there’s any word on Anna, and Laura says, she’s out of surgery; she’s going to make it. Dante says, that’s a relief. Unfortunately, it sounds like Victor’s list of victims is growing.

Trina says, there’s no reason for the guard to latch the door when Spencer’s not here, right? It’ll work. Spencer says, it better, and she says, they can do this. Know how she knows? Because they make a good team. She will be the definition of stealth, while he creates the perfect diversion. He says, listen to him. His uncle can’t catch her. She says, he won’t, and they hear footsteps. She says, no turning back now.

In her office, Portia asks Jordan to please tell her what’s going on before she loses her mind, and Curtis asks, what happened to Trina? Jordan says, they don’t know for sure, but they have reason to believe she’s with Spencer Cassadine and his Great Uncle Victor.

Ambrose opens Spencer’s stateroom door, and Spencer says, it’s about time; he’s starving. He blows past Ambrose, and asks if they’re going or what. Ambrose closes the door, and Trina comes out. She slips into the hallway, and jets.

Anna asks, what’s happening? but Valentin says he doesn’t think they should talk about that. She says she wants to talk about him, and he says, she should be resting. She says she is; she’s in a bed. Tell her. He asks, what’s the last thing she remembers? and she says, it’s a bit of a blur. She knows he gave the necklace to Victor, didn’t he? He says, Victor was going to hurt her, and she says she would have done the same thing. Did Lucy get out okay? He says, she did. In fact, he thinks she made a grand entrance at the Nurses Ball. Anna laughs and says, of course (🍷) she did. Where is his father? Do they know? He says he knows Victor escaped on the Haunted Star. So far, the location of the boat is a mystery. She asks how that’s possible, and he says he doesn’t know, but it is. She should know, the necklace isn’t the only thing he escaped with.

Watkins brings some orange juice, since he wears many hats, and Victor says he’d hoped they could play nice, but Obrecht is greeting him with threats. If she’s thinking of causing any trouble, she should know he has guards all over this ship, ready to descend at a moment’s notice. Ambrose brings Spencer in, and Victor says, welcome, my boy. Obrecht says, and then there were three, and Spencer asks, what is this? Victor says he thinks Spencer’s already met Dr. Liesl Obrecht, and Spencer asks where his brother is. Victor said he’d be here. Obrecht says, make that four, and Victor says, he’ll see his brother after breakfast. Please, both of them, come sit. They sit down, and Victor says, isn’t this nice? Before we begin, let’s raise a glass to new beginnings. He raises his glass of juice, and Spencer asks how long Victor thinks he can string them along. Victor promised him answers, and he intends to collect.

Sonny says, so Trina is also one of Victor’s hostages? and Dante says, it’s looking like that. Laura wonders, how much damage can one man do in one night? and Dante says, they’re probably as tired of hearing it as he is of saying it, but they’re doing everything they can to find them. Laura says she knows and appreciates that, but this was exactly what she was afraid of when Victor came back to Port Charles. She tried to warn Spencer, more than once. She tried to protect him. Sonny says, she still protected him. They’re going to find him and bring him home. Dante says, that’s the plan, when Laura’s phone rings. She steps away to take the call, and Sonny asks, how’s Michael and Willow? Dante says he hasn’t talked to them. He hasn’t sat down since this whole thing started. (IKR? Of all the guys to ask.) Sonny says, there’s got to be a way to find Victor and bring Liesl home, and Dante says, they still have the guy who tried to kill Lucy in custody, but he’s not talking to anyone. Sonny says, not to the cops, but maybe the guy will talk to him.

Brook says, they can totally do today, but if Michael and Willow are willing to wait until tomorrow, things might be less frantic. Willow says, they’ll do tomorrow, and Brook says, awesome. Everything is going to come together, she just knows it. Sasha says, it will be the best wedding this town has ever seen, and Brook says, well, duh. We’re the Quartermaines. Amelia cries, and Michael asks if Brook and Sasha can put her down for a nap. They take Amelia upstairs, and Willow says, be honest. Is this really what he wants? He says he want’s to be her husband. Of course (🍷) this is what he wants. Did she really think he was going to fight her on this? She says she thought he’d think she was giving up, and he says, is she? With Liesl MIA right now, he knows things are scary. He wouldn’t blame her if she felt frustrated and hopeless. She says, frustrated, yes, and angry, and afraid. But she hasn’t given up hope. She’s praying with every fiber of her being that Liesl is found, and soon. He says, they have every reason to believe she will be, right? She hasn’t even been missing a full day. Willow says, it feels like the days count more than they used to, and Michael agrees. She says, so they need to be realistic. Dr. Randolph told them that she doesn’t have much time left, and she doesn’t want to gamble with what could be her final days. She hates the words as much as he does, but ignoring them doesn’t do them any good. If this is the end, she wants it to be filled with as much joy and love as possible. And so, just like she insisted on pushing up the wedding until after the transplant, now she wants to get married right away. She asks if she’s driving him crazy, and he says, the good kind of crazy. Let’s do it. They don’t know what the future holds, and their time may be limited, but their wedding is an act of faith that they’ll have many more years together, with a family their love created. She says she likes the sound of that, and he says, so does he, and they kiss.

Dante says he can’t let Sonny talk to the perp. Besides, Sonny already took a crack at him. Sonny says he doesn’t know what Dante’s implying, and Dante asks if Sonny thinks he doesn’t know the reason the guy has Diane for an attorney. That’s the only person he’s spoken to. The only lead they have is because of Sonny. Sonny says, the Haunted Star’s untraceable; they have to find a different angle. Dante says, they will. He has people working on it; Sonny’s got feelers out there too. They’re not going to quit, and he doesn’t think Sonny should either. Sonny says he doesn’t want to be put in this position again, where someone that he loves is dying, and he can’t do a damn thing about it.

Portia says, no. This can’t be happening. She cries, and Jordan asks, when was the last time she saw or spoke to Trina? Portia says, it was at the Nurses Ball, and Portia went to her dorm afterward, but she never showed up. Jordan says, what about Curtis? and he says, same. What is going on? Jordan says, they have evidence that Victor Cassadine abducted Liesl Obrecht, along with Esme Prince’s baby. They also have reason to believe Spencer Cassadine is with them as well. Given Trina was last seen with Spencer, who they believe was taken by his great uncle… Curtis says, her theory is that somehow Trina got caught up in it. Jordan says, yeah, and he asks what her department is doing about it. Jordan says, they have a lead, but unfortunately, following it won’t be easy.

Anna says, Valentin’s father has hostages? Who? Valentin says, nothing is certain, but the police suspect he has Spencer and Baby Ace, as well as Liesl Obrecht. Anna wonders what he wants with Liesl, but Valentin says he doesn’t know. Maybe they have value has hostages, maybe they’re part of his master plan whatever that is. Maybe it’s both.

Spencer says, Victor keeps talking about new beginnings, but he still hasn’t told them where he’s going, or why. And from the way she’s glaring at Victor, he’s betting Dr. Obrecht isn’t exactly here because she wants to be. Victor says he knows this whole situation must be very disconcerting to both of them, but Spencer has always shown willingness to protect their family at any cost. He’s counting on Spencer and his brother to ensure the future prosperity of the Cassadines. Obrecht says, as disturbing as that explanation was, she supposes she can understand him kidnapping his own kin, but she certainly doesn’t care about the Cassadine legacy. He chuckles and says, this goes much further than the family legacy. When his plan comes to fruition, they’ll be ushering in a new era of humanity.

Sonny tells Dante that when his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s there was a damn thing he could do about it. There was no lead he could take. It was this awful disease that was happening to them. Dante says, same thing with Stone, and Sonny says, all he could do was just stand by there and watch him slip away. And no matter how ugly it is with him and Michael, he doesn’t wish that on anyone. Dante says, the way he heard it, Sonny didn’t just stand by there and do nothing. He cared for Mike. He loved him. He made sure Mike’s last days, weeks, and months on this earth were good ones. He did the same thing with Stone. Sonny couldn’t save him – no one could – but Sonny did them a world of good. Sonny thanks him for saying that, and Dante says, it’s the truth. He can do the same thing for Michael and Willow. Sonny says he’d love to, but Michael won’t let him. Dante says he wouldn’t be so sure about that.

Michael asks if everything is good with Amelia because man, that kid needed a nap, and Brook says, clearly they have the magic touch. Now what do they have to do to get this wedding off the ground? Willow says, almost everything is planned already, but they do need to contact the vendors, and tell them that they’re moving up the date. Sasha says, on it. Send her the list. Willow says she will, thanks Sasha, and hugs her. Michael says he’ll walk her out, and they leave. Brook says, what else? And Willow asks if she’d mind… Brook says, checking on Michael? and Willow says she knows this is hard on him, so if Brook can…

Jordan says, they believe Victor left Port Charles on the Haunted Star, and Curtis asks if that ship doesn’t have a GPS tracker. Jordan says, it did, but they found it tied to a buoy in the harbor, and Portia says, so they could be anywhere. Jordan says, the coastguard is working to locate them via satellite, but so far, no luck, and Portia says, this is a living nightmare. Jordan says, they’re utilizing all resources, she promises. The goal is to bring Trina, Spencer, and whoever else is on that boat home safely. Curtis thanks her, and Jordan says, obviously, she’ll be in touch. She leaves, and Portia says, her baby girl. She must be so scared right now. Curtis says, it’s okay; he’s got her. It’ll be okay. He holds her as she cries.

Anna says she doesn’t think Valentin’s father is motivated by money, so it’s not a ransom, and he says, no. Victor could be using Liesl, Spencer, and the baby as human shields. She says she imagines Victor sees Spencer as the only family he has left, but Liesl… Does he need something from her? Remember, they don’t know what the code on the Ice Princess means; they don’t know if it leads somewhere. Valentin says, Victor has everything he needs to put his plan in motion, and he could strike at any minute. She says, oh God. How do they, or anybody… How do they stop him?

Obrecht says, once again Victor has fallen prey to his bloated sense of self-importance, but Victor says he’s merely stating a fact. Someone has to do what needs to be done. She says, and that is? and Spencer says, issuing in a new era; what does that mean? Victor says he was horrified by the damage we were doing to our planet, and Spencer says, we? Victor says, we, us, people, humanity. Their greed and short-sightedness. Carelessly consuming the resources we need to survive. Left unchecked, there will be nothing left for future generations. Once upon a time, his brother Mikkos shared these views, and they developed a technology to reverse mankind’s mistakes. Obrecht says, a device used to control the climate. Do remind them how that turned out. Victor admits allying with Mikkos was a mistake. He soon showed himself to be a mere opportunist, using their innovation for extortion. His greed was not only disgusting, it was their undoing. Obrecht says, his greed, along with Luke and Laura, and Victor says he won’t make the same mistake twice. There are other ways of accomplishing what he set out to do years ago. Spencer asks, how? and Victor says, he and Mikkos developed another set of tools to save the world; tools they could fall back on if their first plan was a failure. Obrecht says, now there’s an understatement, and Victor says, for security reasons, they placed these tools in bunkers, the location of which only Mikkos knew. He engraved a code on the Ice Princess, which when deciphered would give the coordinates of those locations. Spencer says, the Ice Princess as in the diamond, and Victor says, that is correct. Spencer says he assumes they’re headed for one of those bunkers, and Obrecht asks if that’s why he killed Luke Spencer; so he could get his hands on that diamond? Victor says, sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good, and there’s plenty of people out there who agree with him. While he was working on his plan, he gathered a great number of true believers willing to give their life for the cause. Obrecht says, before this is over, how many unwilling people are going to perish? and Victor says, humanity has all but ensured its own annihilation. The only way to reverse the damage is to take extreme measures, and take them now. Spencer says, define extreme, and Victor says, for forty years after Mikkos’s folly, do they realize the population of the planet has almost doubled? Eight billion people. Think of the strain on their resources and space. There’s no way it can be sustained, but it can be fixed. Obrecht asks, how? and he says, a pathogen stored in one of his brother’s bunkers. Once released, it will reduce the population to manageable levels. Obrecht says, his plan is to release an unknown pathogen into the world? and he says, unknown? He and Mikkos cultivated it to very specific specifications (ha-ha! say that five times real fast). She says, four decades ago. Who knows how that pathogen has morphed in that time. Victor says, the survivors will usher in a new age of man, and Spencer says, to hell with all the innocent people who will die, as long as Victor’s family remains intact. Who appointed him judge, jury, and executioner? Victor says he knows it seems heartless, but to bring about true change involves sacrifice, and Spencer says, sacrifice from everybody else. Victor says, someone has to have the courage to make the hard choices, and Spencer says, there’s no way he’s going to let Victor get away with this. Victor says he’s been working toward this his whole life. Nobody is going to stop him now. Not even Spencer.

Trina Stealth Robinson sneaks around the boat, evading the guards who go into the office.

Portia tells Curtis, Victor has Trina on some ship for God knows what reason. They have no idea where they are. What if Trina is hurt? Curtis says, they’ll find them, but Portia asks, how? Her daughter needs protecting, and she’s not there to protect her. What is she supposed to do? He says he’s seen how Trina handles herself in threatening situations. She’s tough; she’s level-headed. If she’s with Victor and Spencer, she’s finding a way out of it. Portia asks if he really thinks so, and he says he knows so.

Laura sees Jordan, and says, Dante just told her that Trina might be one of Victor’s hostages? and Jordan says, it’s a theory for now, but it’s seeming more and more likely. She just broke the news to Portia and Curtis. Laura says, she must be going out of her mind, and Jordan says, not the most fun conversation she’s ever had. Laura says, they’ve got to find those kids and bring them back home. Her office is at Jordan’s disposal. Don’t hesitate to ask for anything. Jordan thanks her, and says, actually, there is something Laura can do.

Sonny says, last time he checked, Michael didn’t want anything to do with him, unless Dante knows something different. Dante says he thinks in hard times, people’s perspectives change; you reevaluate what’s important. He just thinks Michael’s feelings will change as the situation evolves. Sonny says, when Willow got leukemia, there was a moment when he thought he and Michael were going to fix things, but last time they talked, it got heated. He knows Michael doesn’t want to see him at all. Dante says, maybe not today or tomorrow, maybe not next week, but who knows? What if one day he wakes up needing his father? Sonny isn’t going to turn him away, right? Sonny says, no matter how angry he is with Michael, if Michael reached out, he’d be there, and Dante says, so do that. It will give him something to do. He tells Sonny that he’s got to go, they hug, and Sonny thanks him for the talk.

Brook goes outside, and Michael wipes his eyes. He says, she caught him having a moment, and she tells him to have as many as he needs. He says, they seem to be happening a lot more lately, and she says, but not in front of Willow. He says, she has enough on her plate. He doesn’t want to add to it. She asks if she can say something. If he thinks she’s overstepping… He says he’ll tell her, and she says, maybe it’s time he and Willow shared a plate; shared their feelings about what’s really going on. The truth is, this is happening to both of them. She loves him, and she’s here for whatever he needs. He thanks her and says he loves her too, when his phone rings. Brook says, let her go. She misses the days of rocking Bailey to sleep. She goes inside, and he looks at his phone. We see it’s a call from Sonny. He says, now is not a good time, and Sonny says, it’ll be quick. Michael doesn’t even have to respond. Just let him say his piece. Michael says he doesn’t know. He’s got to go. Sonny says, okay, and Michael says, but… I hear you.

Valentin tells Anna, one thing is certain. We won’t be doing anything. We will stay in bed and we will recover. Anna says, okay, but just because she’s in this bed, it doesn’t render her useless. He says, of course (🍷) she’s not useless. He needs her. If he’s going to bring Victor down, he needs her desperately. But he’s not going to jeopardize her health to do it. Not much scares him… He starts to cry, and says, but when he watched her… She strokes his face, and he says, when he held her in his arms, straight away, that terrified him. He doesn’t want to be without her. She cries too, and says, he won’t be. He says, so she promises him that she won’t do anything to put herself at risk? and she says, okay. She promises. He kisses her hand, and then she kisses his.

Jordan says she knows Laura’s been working to take down Victor ever since he returned to Port Charles. She’s made allusions in the past, and Robert and Felicia confirmed it yesterday. Laura says she has a long history with the Cassadines. They’ve terrorized her and her family countless times, countless ways. No more. Jordan says she’s not blaming Laura, but Laura’s kept her out of the loop for way too long. She wants in. Their best chance of taking down Victor is working together; all of them.

Portia says her mind keeps going to all the scariest places, but Curtis says, she has to try not to let it. She says, they both know the Cassadines, how vindictive and evil and lethal they are, and he says, Jordan has the entire PCPD on their tail. She says, what if they’re not on time? but he says, Trina is coming home, even if he has to bring her home himself.

Trina peeks into the office, but the guards are still hanging around. She says, come on, Spencer. Where’s the diversion?

Victor says, come on, Spencer, think about it. This is the only way he and his brother will have a world to grow up in. Spencer says, assuming they don’t fall victim to the pathogen’s effects, and he says, that is where the lovely Dr. Obrecht comes in. Her expertise will assure his heirs are properly inoculated. He puts his hands on Obrecht’s shoulders, and she says, thus ensuring his precious legacy. If he thinks she’s going to help him, he’s truly lost his verstand (mind). He says he does love it when she talks German, but if she doesn’t comply with his wishes, he guarantees the consequences will be dire. Spencer jumps up, gets Obrecht in a headlock, pulling her from her chair, and holds a knife to her throat.

So… Victor is a secret unhinged environmentalist?

Tomorrow, Brook tells someone that she has a critical mission for them, and they have to accept it; Sam asks why Alexis can’t just let this go; Curtis tells Jordan that they won’t see him coming; Portia says, help is on the way; and Spencer tells Victor, no Obrecht, no plan.
