What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

💔 In my area, GH was interrupted for the majority of the show. Normally, it annoys me, since it’s usually news we can wait for, but today I felt differently, having rooted for the rescue of those in the Titan submersible. Sadly, it was not to be, so RIP to those brave souls who died doing what they loved.

General Hospital

Sasha comes back to the table, and asks what Maxie just said. What did Maxie mean, Cody may feel something more than friendship for her? Lucy starts to talk, but Sasha says, it doesn’t matter, because she couldn’t be more wrong.

Cody tells Gladys that he and Spinelli have evidence that Gladys planted the bracelet on him; evidence that will show her testimony is bogus. Spinelli says, do the decent thing and recant, and Gladys says, or what? Cody says, or it will leave her heading upriver, not him.

Kristina says, sure, she’ll go, and Sam thanks her. Kristina says, as soon as Sam tells her what’s up, but Sam says, it’s not a good time. Kristina asks if it’s because Sam’s so busy. She’s literally sitting here alone. Sam says she’s on a job, and Kristina says, sounds fun. P.I. stuff? She looks around, and Sam says, it’s not fun; it’s important. Kristina says, adultery? Fraud? A criminal investigation? Sam says, come on, getting up, and Kristina asks where they’re going. Sam says, anywhere but here. Sam gives Spinelli a nod, and they leave.

On the phone, Finn says, they want to rule out any neurological issues before they proceed with treatment, when Gregory walks in. Finn says, let him know when they’ve got it set up, and hangs up. Gregory says, his son the doctor, and Finn asks how he is, hugging him. Gregory says, busy day? and Finn says, relentless. Good thing he’s getting the hell out of Port Charles.

Alexis walks into the hospital and sees Tracy. She asks, how’s Ned? and Tracy asks if she doesn’t mean Eddie Maine.

In an empty courtroom, Drew looks at a phone alert for Scout’s swimming lesson, when Carly walks in. She hugs him, and says she can’t believe today is the day. He says he feels a little bit like a kid waiting to hear his punishment, and she says, punishment he doesn’t deserve. He says, punishment she doesn’t deserve either, and she asks if he’s ready. He says he doesn’t know. Is anyone ever ready to sign away their freedom? She hugs him again.

As they enter the MetroCourt Gardens, Kristina asks if Sam doesn’t want her to know, or is Sam going to fill her in? Sam says she’s doing some surveillance, and Kristina says she saw Spinelli out there and Dante’s friend Cody. What are they doing with Gladys Corbin? Sam asks if Kristina knows what the P in P.I. stands for, and Kristina says, private. Sam tells her, good job, and she asks if she gets a gold star. She’ll drop it, but if Sam has a minute, she’d like some big sister time. Sam asks if everything is okay, and Kristina says, with her? Yeah. She’s worried about Molly.

Gladys says she thinks she’ll pass, but Cody says, that would be a mistake. They have her dead to rights. Gladys says, it’s going to take more than made up words to trip her up, and Cody says, she doesn’t care that they have evidence that could send her away. Gladys tells him, if said evidence actually existed, they would have turned it in by now. So why are they here with her instead of at the PCPD?

Sasha says she and Cody are just friends, and Lucy tells her, if you say so. Sasha says she does. It’s not like that between them. Lucy says, of course (🍷). No one was suggesting there was anything romantic going on. Maxie says she thinks they should get back to work, and Sasha asks, then what were they suggesting? Lucy says, just that on Sasha’s end, it might be strictly platonic, but maybe things are developing for Mr. Bell.

Gregory says, Finn’s leaving town? and Finn says, not permanently. He’s going on vacation, which he thought Gregory would get, being it was his idea. Gregory, him, Violet, Chase, Disneyworld. Ring any bells? Gregory says, as he recalls, Finn told him that it wasn’t a good time, and Finn says, it wasn’t, but now Violet is out of school, and he’s got a couple weeks coming up where he can take some time off. Gregory says, and Chase? and Finn says, it may be more difficult for him, since he’s just getting his badge back, but he’s working on it. Finn even got Violet a set of purple Mickey Mouse ears. So what does Gregory say? Gregory tells him, it sounds wonderful, but he’s afraid things have changed on his end.

Drew tells Carly that he’s been going over it in his head again and again. He knows the right thing is to accept this plea deal, but now that he’s here… She says, it’s hard, and he says, it is. She says, he doesn’t have to do this. Please? He says, it’s the only way, when Michael walks in. Carly says she told him that he didn’t have to come, but he says he wanted to. Drew says, they appreciate him being here. He knows Michael has enough on his plate with Willow and the kids. Michael says he checked all the boxes. He had breakfast with Wiley and Amelia… Or rather, Amelia watched from a rocking chair while he and Wiley ate. The nanny took Wiley to the park, he stopped by Aurora, then spent time with Willow. Drew asks how she is, and Michael says, she must be doing better, since she’s back to bossing him around. She basically insisted he come. She sends her love to both of them. Drew says he sends it right back, and Carly says, her too. Michael says, she also wanted him to tell them, it’s painfully obvious if it wasn’t for Drew, she wouldn’t even be here. Drew suggests they not think about that, but Michael says, still, it’s true, and they’re eternally grateful. Carly says, so is she, and asks, how’s Ned? Michael says he was going to check in with Ned this morning, but then Brook told him the latest. Is that right? Drew says, Ned doesn’t even remember who he is. He thinks he’s Eddie Maine. Carly says she can’t imagine how hard it is for Olivia, and Michael says he feels terrible for the family. It’s just that he can’t get past the fact that the reason they’re here, the reason Drew’s life is being blown up, is because of Ned.

Alexis says, Tracy answered her question. She stopped by to see Ned, and was told Eddie isn’t accepting visitors. Tracy says, that’s a blessing. What if he took one look at Alexis and launched into that Eddie’s Angels business? Alexis says, because she caused enough problems in his marriage, and Tracy tells her, she said it. Alexis says she’s going to be nice, and despite their history, she’s telling Tracy that she’s sorry. This must be very difficult for Tracy and her family. Tracy says, a mid-life crisis is annoying, and definitely bad for business, but this is different. This is so much worse. Her son doesn’t know her. And worse, he doesn’t know Leo. When Luke died, she thought she could withstand anything, but she honestly thinks this is more than she can handle.

Drew says he gets that Michael’s angry, and Michael says, Drew’s not? Drew says he’s very angry – they both are – but this is happening for a lot of reasons besides Ned. Zeke comes in, and Drew introduces him to Carly and Michael, saying, Michael is Josslyn’s brother. Zeke says, their daughter and sister is a wonderful woman, and Carly says, he knows Josslyn? Drew says, Zeke is Trina’s uncle, and Zeke says, Portia’s his sister. Carly says, they absolutely adore Trina, and Zeke says he hit the jackpot in the niece department. Zeke tells Drew that he spoke with the prosecutor, and he said the Feds accepted the deal. All that’s left is for the judge to sign off, Drew enters his plea, and he takes care of the rest. Michael says, what is the deal, if they don’t mind him asking? and Drew says, six months in minimum security prison, and in return, Carly doesn’t have to do any prison time. Michael says, that’s not it, is it? and Carly says, no. Zeke says, her attorney will reach out to her for the financial penalty, and Michael says, there’s no way this could blow back on his mom, is there? Zeke says, essentially, Drew is taking responsibility for the insider trading. The SEC is satisfied, and won’t throw the book at the both of them. Zeke’s phone rings, and he steps away to take the call. Michael thanks Drew so much for doing this for his mom, and Carly says she told him to change his mind; that it wasn’t a good idea. Drew says, this is the best outcome for everybody involved, and Carly says, really? The best outcome is for him to go to prison? Drew says, when you consider the alternatives, yes. Michael says he knows what Drew is giving up, and doesn’t want him to worry about anything. When he’s gone, they’ll check on Scout. He’ll keep Aurora running, and Drew’s life will be waiting for him, right where he left it, when he gets back. Drew says, coming from Michael, he believes that, and they bro hug.

Sam asks if Kristina heard from Molly, and Molly says, no, that’s the problem. Ever since Molly told them about her endometriosis, she’s been so distant. Kristina keeps reaching out of course (🍷), but either Molly doesn’t respond at all, or if she does, it’s with some lame emojis. Sam says, emojis, yeah. Molly’s doing the same thing to her. Kristina asks what they do, and Sam says, nothing?

Sasha tells Maxie and Lucy, back up. They think Cody is interested in her? Maxie tells her, that’s not what Lucy said, but Lucy says, that’s kind of exactly what she said. Sasha says, and they think she should be receptive to that? but they both say, no. Sasha says, good, and Maxie says, because Sasha’s still grieving and not ready to date, but that’s fine. Unless she is ready to date, then that’s totally fine too. Sasha says, she’s not, and Lucy says, okay. All she was saying was, Cody is a man… and Sasha is a smart, beautiful woman, and he did ride on in to rescue her at Home & Heart. Sasha says, as a friend, and Maxie says, a really caring and sweet and thoughtful friend. She really loves how Sasha brings out the chivalrous side of Cody. Because let’s be honest, he can be a little rough around the edges. Sasha says, ya think? and Maxie says, but with Sasha, he’s different. She had her reservations about Cody at first, but it turns out he’s a really great guy. Sasha says, and a very good friend, and Lucy says, for now. Sasha and Maxie both say, Lucy! and Lucy says she’s sorry; it just slipped out.

Cody says he wanted to give Gladys the chance to do the right thing for Sasha’s sake, but Gladys says, he doesn’t care about Sasha. He says, that’s where she’s wrong. Let’s face it. They both know there are details at play here that have been kept on the DL. Spinelli says, that’s intriguing. Does Gladys care to expand on those details? Gladys says, here’s the way she sees it. There are only two possible reasons Cody came to her instead of going to the police. Either he’s got butkus, and he’s trying to save his butt, or he came to this so-called evidence illegally. She’s not a betting woman, but if she was, this is a bet she can’t lose.

Gregory tells Finn that he recently accepted a job at The Invader, on their editorial board. Finn congratulates him, and says he’s glad Gregory finally made it official. He seemed to be really enjoying his time there. Gregory says he’s sorry he didn’t tell Finn sooner. Their schedules hadn’t lined up since he started. He’s still getting used to the grind of a daily newspaper. Finn says, there’s no need to apologize, but consider himself lucky that he’ll explain about the trip to Violet. She’d never let him hear the end of it. Don’t worry about it. They’ll do it next year. Gregory says, no, and Finn asks, what does that mean? Gregory says, next year’s too far away. Who knows how long Violet’s princess phase will last? Finn says, if God has mercy, not much longer, and Gregory says, they’ll have to make it sooner… but not too soon. He knows better than to ask for time off less than a month into the job. Finn says he takes it Gregory and Alexis worked things out, and Gregory says, she’s a good friend. Finn says, agreed, and Gregory says he wishes he could say the same thing about some of Finn’s other friends.

Tracy tells Alexis, they understand what’s going on, but this is hugely traumatizing for Leo. The father he loves suddenly doesn’t recognize him and wants nothing to do with him. Alexis asks how Leo is handling it, and Tracy says, not well. Who can blame him? Honestly, she thought Ned was made of sterner stuff, and Alexis asks how she means. Tracy says, Eddie Maine was an alter-ego Ned created years ago, and Alexis says she knows he wanted to be a performer, but Tracy says, he wanted to escape his real life. Alexis asks if Tracy thinks he’s doing the same thing again, and Tracy says, it’s no secret Ned is facing accusations from half his family for turning in Carly and Drew to the SEC. Add to that, he’s working overtime to try and fix the business disaster of Valentin faking his own death. Alexis asks if she’s suggesting Ned fell on purpose.

The bailiff says, all rise, court is now in session. The honorable Judge Albert Kim presiding. Judge Kim takes the bench, and tells them, be seated. This is the United States versus Cain, in which the defendant, Andrew Cain, has been charged with insider trading. How does he plead? Drew looks at Carly, gets up, and says, I plead guilty, your honor.

Finn says, Gregory is talking about Tracy, and Gregory says, ding, ding. That woman is a piece of work. Finn says, Tracy is an acquired taste, and Gregory says, you don’t acquire a taste for arsenic, you avoid it. Finn laughs, and says, that’s a little harsh. He understands Gregory’s skepticism, but believe it or not, Tracy’s been a really good friend to him. Gregory tells him, so he keeps saying, and Finn says he knows Gregory didn’t like how she treated Chase. Gregory says, when she tore into him and attacked his character? and Finn says he didn’t like it either, but to Tracy, family is everything, and in her mind, she was just looking out for her granddaughter. Gregory says, his friend needs to find another way to express herself, and Finn says, trust him. There’s more to Tracy than the prickly exterior. You just have to dig a little deeper.

Tracy tells Alexis, she’s just suggesting that deep in Ned’s psyche, he’s relishing the idea of getting away from it all, and this accident affords him that opportunity. Alexis says, that’s quite a stretch, but Tracy says, is it really? It wouldn’t be so bad if it were just him alone, but he has a family, and Olivia is beside herself and Brook is a wreck. Alexis asks what the doctors said, and Tracy tells her, they’re useless. They say, be patient, time heals, blah-blah-blah. Alexis says, sounds reasonable to her, and Tracy wonders if there’s anyone in this hospital who’s willing to go to extreme measures to turn Eddie Maine back into Ned.

Sam says she hates this for Molly, but all they can do is love her and be a safe haven for her, and Kristina says she just can’t believe this. She also can’t believe, of the three of them, she’s the only one with functional plumbing. (Are you thinking what I’m thinking?) Not a single issue. Sam says, rub it in, why doesn’t she? and Kristina says she did do some research online. She didn’t want to bother Molly with questions, but endometriosis is a really painful condition. Can Sam believe Molly’s been suffering all this time? Alone? She hates that for Molly. Sam says she hates it too.

Sasha asks if they think it’s weird she’s not ready to move on yet, but Maxie says, no. It’s not even been a year since Brando died. Not that there’s a timetable. Lucy says, not at all. She thinks it’s natural not to know how and when and if you’re able to just let go. Sasha asks if Maxie felt that way with Nathan, and Maxie says, after Nathan died, the thought of moving on without him, starting a whole new life, was the most overwhelming feeling in the entire world. Sasha says, of course (🍷) she wants that for herself, and Lucy says, but if she can’t see it yet, really, it’s okay. Maxie says, everyone grieves differently and at different paces. She’s doing great. Lucy takes Sasha’s hand, and says, she really, really is.

Gladys says, they couldn’t have lifted anything off her fitness app. She didn’t bring her phone with her to the ball. Cody asks, who leaves their phone at home? and Gladys says, someone who couldn’t fit it in her purse. Ha! The waiter clears Sam’s table, and the whatchamacallit falls on the ground. Gladys asks, what’s that? as Selina walks in with Li, and steps on it.

 Selina picks it up, and walks over to Gladys. She says, this looks like a directional microphone, and Gladys says she has no idea what that is. Selina says, it’s meant to record conversations from a distance, and Gladys asks if Cody and Spinelli recorded her. Selina asks if one of them dropped this, and Cody says, sure didn’t. Spinelli says, how fortuitous that she picked it up so no one would trip, and Selina says, they wouldn’t want that on such a lovely day, would they? Forgive her if she seems intrusive, but she’s sensing some tension between the three of them. Is everything all right? Gladys says, it was all right until these two showed up and started harassing her out of nowhere. Cody and Spinelli protest, and Cody says, nothing Selina needs to concern herself with. They know how busy she is, don’t they Gladys? Selina says, not too busy to resolve a conflict. Shall they put their heads together and come up with a solution? Cody says, that’s not necessary, but Selina says, nonsense. Have a seat over there. She’ll help them iron this out. Cody goes to sit, and Gladys thanks her, following him. Selina blocks Spinelli, and says she’ll take it from here. She tosses the microphone into the pool.

Maxie says, just think of where Sasha was at this time last year, and Lucy says, they’re so proud of her. Sasha says she almost feels like a different person, and Maxie says, she’s still herself, just stronger and wiser. Lucy says, and infinitely more resilient. Sasha says she’s so lucky to have them in her corner, and Maxie says, always. Lucy says, always, and excuses herself to use the powder room. Sasha asks if Maxie thinks anyone has as much energy as Lucy, and Maxie says, no. Her phone rings, and she tells Sasha, it’s Georgie. Sasha says she’ll hold down the fort, and Maxie steps away. Sasha looks at a photo of Brando on her phone, and says, Brando, I have come a long way, haven’t I? But it’s true; I’m still not over you. And I have to wonder if I’ll ever be. She looks up, and Dr. Montague is there.

Kristina says, it must be pretty awful to want to be a mother, then find out you can’t be, and Sam says, it’s awful, and isolating and devastating, and a million other not so fun feelings. But the good thing is, once the dust settles, Molly and TJ are going to be okay. They’re going to be able to have a family. It’s just going to be a longer, windier road to get there. Kristina says she hopes they do try to have kids another way. Molly and TJ would be the best parents. Sam asks if she’s chopped liver, and Kristina says, no. She’s a supermom. And she’s a super aunt obviously. Sam says she doesn’t know about that. Scout told her that the last time Kristina took her and Danny out to dinner, she didn’t let them have dessert afterward. Kristina says, that’s because she let them have dessert before, and Sam says, she thought that was a good idea why? Kristina says, Scout left that part out. She’s taught her niece well.

Gregory says, Finn really thinks that highly of Tracy Quartermaine? and Finn says, in a realistic and tentatively appropriate way, yes. Gregory says he trusts Finn’s judgement. He’ll reserve his and give her another chance, but he won’t put up with her demeaning his son. Finn says, as well he shouldn’t, and Gregory says, perhaps… maybe he pushed back a bit too hard. He should probably clear the air. Shouldn’t he? Finn says, no, and Gregory says, apologize for the last time they spoke, but Finn says, that will get him absolutely nowhere.

Judge Kim says he understands the prosecution has reached a deal with the defendant. The SEC lawyer says, they have, and the judge says, and both sides are in agreement with these terms? The lawyer says, that’s correct, and Zeke says, they see eye to eye on all points. Judge Kim says, that’s where they lose him. He’s reviewed the deal and the facts on the case, and he finds it a miscarriage of justice. It’s his opinion that the defendant knowingly colluded with Miss Spencer in order to drive up the stock price of Aurora Media, with the desired result being significant and personal financial gain. As such, he sees no reason why Mr. Cain shouldn’t receive the maximum penalty for his crimes.

Zeke gets up and says, the maximum penalty for these charges is twenty years, and the judge says he’s aware. Zeke says, so we – and by we, he means the defense and the prosecution – believe that a sentence of that magnitude is too harsh in a case like this. Carly looks like she might have a heart attack, and Judge Kim says he believes what they’re proposing is too lenient. Zeke says, Mr. Cain has run Aurora Media with integrity since he founded it, not a single misstep or example of shady business practices. The judge says, until now, and Zeke says, but he is a family man, just as he’s a CEO, maybe even more so. When he proposed a merger of Aurora and ELQ, it wasn’t for his personal gain as the judge suggested. It was to benefit his family’s company. In fact, the merger never even came to pass. Meaning his client never saw any of the benefits, professional or personal. Just the opposite in fact. The company lost money. So the true miscarriage of justice here would be to make an example of a man who has no history of securities fraud. He simply made an error in judgement trying to help the people he loves.

A wet Spinelli finds Sam and Kristina, and Sam asks, what happened? Kristina asks if he got pushed in the pool again, and Sam says, again? Spinelli says he thought he and Kristina had an agreement that it stayed between them, and she says, sorry. Spinelli holds up the crunched microphone, and Sam says, no. He says, courtesy of Miss Selina Wu, and Sam suggests Kristina go get a drink. Kristina leaves, and Spinelli takes her seat. Sam says, start from the beginning, and he asks if she wasn’t listening, but she says she got waylaid by Kristina. He says, they were working Gladys, just like they discussed. They were inches from success when Miss Wu just sauntered in and ruined everything.

Li hands the pool waiter some cash, and says, see to it they’re not disturbed. The waiter says he’s got it, and tells the two whole people there that he’s sorry, but they’re closing the pool for a private function. They leave, and Selina says she has a meeting shortly, so let’s not waste time. She’d hoped they could resolve this issue without requiring her intervention, but it seems her hopes were naïve. Gladys says, he started it, and Cody says, did not. Selina says, enough. She can’t have both of her favorite players at odds. Her game is a place of harmony. Make peace now. Gladys says she can’t make peace when Cody is still spreading lies about her, and Cody says, she’s trying to get him sent to prison. Selina says, this is how it’s going to work. Gladys is going to see to it that the charges against Mr. Bell are dropped. Gladys says, with all due respect, that’s not her call, and Selina says, it’s Gelhorn Jewelers’, but she’s their star witness. Without her, they don’t have a case. Amend her statement. Say she’s since remembered that the night of the Nurses Ball, the clasp on her bracelet was loose. Cody says, and what? Fell off of her wrist and into his jacket pocket? Selina says she’s confident a cater waiter from that evening will come forward and testify they found it on the floor near Cody’s things. The waiter thought it belonged to Cody, and put it in his jacket pocket for safekeeping. Matter settled. Cody says, sounds good to him, and Selina says, what about Gladys?

Sasha tells Dr. Montague, hi, and he says he was on his way out when he saw her sitting there, so he thought he’d say hello. She says she doesn’t suppose he missed the part where she was talking to the picture of her dead husband, and he says he might have noticed that. She promises she’s not losing it again, and he asks if he can sit. She says, sure, and he says he doesn’t think she’s losing it. What he observed was a grieving woman expressing her emotions in a healthy way. It’s good to let her feelings out. Just look what happened when she bottled them up after her son died. The fact that she’s allowing herself to go places she’s scared of is progress. She thanks him, and says, it means a lot. He gets up, and says he’s looking forward to their next session. She says, her too, and he leaves.

Finn says, Tracy isn’t a touchy, feely kind of person, and Gregory tells him, you don’t say. Finn tells him, he does say. She’s got zero patience for this type of thing. Gregory says, then what does he do? Chase is in love with her granddaughter. Hopefully, Chase and Brook will be together for a long time. Wouldn’t it behoove them all to get along? Finn doesn’t know what to tell him. Gregory can try to make some roads there, but Finn doesn’t think he’ll succeed. Gregory says, that sounds like a challenge, and Finn says, it most certainly was not. Gregory says, you never know. Tracy might come around. They’re both grown-ups. If he comes to her openly and honestly, why wouldn’t she respond in kind?

Alexis asks Tracy to define extreme measures, because the last time Tracy went to them, it didn’t work out so well… for her. Tracy asks if Alexis wants to rehash the past. No? What she means by extreme measures is medical equivalent of shaking him until he snaps out of it. Alexis says, that sounds possibly unethical, definitely illegal, and Tracy asks what she’d suggest. Alexis says she’d suggest a gentler route. Instead of challenging Ned’s worldview, which will just make him dig his heels in deeper, just go along with it. Let him believe he’s Eddie Maine.

Spinelli tells Sam that he’s curiously suspicious about how deferential Cody and Gladys became when Miss Wu entered the scene. Sam says, and Selina really couldn’t have wanted to be peacemaker? and he says, she wouldn’t take no for an answer. And of all people, why would she insist on wanting them to come to an understanding? Sam says, and what is the nature of Selina Wu’s relationship to Gladys, and to Cody?

Gladys says she can’t just amend her statement. She’ll look like a complete flake. And what about Sasha? What’s her daughter-in-law going to think? Cody says, that she’s the lying liar that she is? but Selina says, on the contrary. Everyone will be grateful that no one was unjustly punished. She’ll be a hero. Gladys says, fine. They’ll do it Selina’s way. Selina says, and Cody. Whatever problem he has with Gladys, he’s going to drop it. Cody says, she doesn’t understand. Sasha’s his friend… Selina says, there will be no unnecessary conflict in her games, and Cody asks why she’s protecting Gladys. Selina says, simply put, none of your business, and Cody says, have a nice day. He starts to leave, but Selina says, not so fast. She asks Li to take Gladys to the bar for a drink, and Gladys says, don’t mind if I do, walking ahead of him. Selina says, no one can know Cody works for her, and Cody says he gets it. She says, except she doesn’t think he does. If he did, he wouldn’t try to make trouble and draw unwanted attention to her business. There’s a lot of money at stake. Keep his mouth shut… or she’ll shut it for him permanently.

Maxie and Lucy come back to the table, and Lucy says she ran into a big fan of their Deception products, and boy, could that woman talk. Sasha says, unlike Lucy, and Lucy says she wants to apologize for bringing up all that Cody nonsense, but Sasha says she’s glad Lucy did. Lucy says, a few minutes ago Sasha wasn’t so glad, but Sasha says she doesn’t want to live in denial anymore. She did that before, and it sent her down a dark path. She doesn’t want to go backwards. Maxie says, that’s good to hear, and Sasha says she’s got enough to handle ending her guardianship. So as for whether or not Cody has feelings for her, it doesn’t matter. It’s clear his presence in her life makes things more complicated. Maxie says, with Gladys she means? and Sasha says, Gladys means a lot to her. Gladys has helped her in ways no one else could understand. So she’s resolved to ending her guardianship, and maintaining a relationship with Gladys.

Selina walks up behind Gladys, saying her name, and causing Gladys to nearly choke on her drink. She says, Gladys never responded to her text. Selina was worried something might have happened to her. Gladys gives her an envelope, saying, first installment. Selina says she’d hoped Gladys would pay back the entire amount, and Gladys says she will. Like she told Selina, she has to break it up into chunks. She can’t transfer a huge amount at once; Sasha will notice. Selina says, very well, but don’t forget about the interest. Which makes it in Gladys’s best interest to pay the loan back as soon as possible. Dr. Montague says, Miss Wu, and Selina says, Monty. One moment? He tells her to take her time, and she leaves with Li. Monty goes over to Gladys, and says, nice seeing her again. He couldn’t help but overhear. It sounds like she’s in a tough spot with their friend Selina. Gladys says she owes Selina money, and he says he’d be glad to help her settle her debt. She says, he’d do that for her? and he says, of course (🍷). But not without a favor in return.

Alexis says, if he thinks he’s Eddie Maine, why not treat him like he’s Eddie Maine? and Tracy says, that is the worst idea she’s ever heard. Alexis says, okay. Never mind then. Tracy says, so what Alexis is telling her is, in order to rid Ned of his delusions, they should lean into them? Alexis tells her, she’s saying, if they allow Ned to work this out on his own, without constant opposition from Tracy, maybe it would help him get over it. Tracy asks when Alexis got her therapist certification. Was that handed out with her last sobriety chip? Alexis says, she’s impossible, and Tracy says, she’s an idiot. Gregory sees them, and ducks around the corner.

Judge Kim says, committing a crime, even if it is for love of one’s family, is still a crime. However, considering the defendant’s record since founding Aurora Media, along with the fact that the merger was never finalized, he’ll allow that the maximum penalty is not warranted. Given the charges, the proposed deal of six months is still too lenient. He hereby sentences the defendant to serve three years. Surprise all around. From me too. He can go over the SEC’s head? I dunno about that.

Tomorrow, Gregory tells Tracy, back the hell off; Ned/Eddie says, they’re kidding him; Josslyn tells Sonny, it’s the best she can do right now; and Carly says, there’s been some kind of mistake.

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

Paris, France. Valentin and Anna are making out on the couch when there’s a knock at the door. She says, it must be his contact, draws her gun, and opens the door. A beautiful blonde woman breezes past her, saying, Valentin, mon amour, and kisses him.

At Spring Ridge, Esme says, there must be a mistake. She tried to explain to the judge… The guard says, someone will be here shortly to escort her to her room, and Esme sits down, putting her head in her hands. Heather smooths Esme’s hair, and says, it’ll be all right, sweetheart. Everything’s going to be all right now.

A phone with an alert from The Invader says: NEWS: Judge Holloway ordered Esme Prince to be remanded to Spring Ridge Minimum Security Prison until her trial is concluded. Ms. Prince faces… Spencer looks up from his table at Kelly’s, and thanks Ava for coming. He says he wouldn’t have blamed her if she’d blown off his request to meet. She says she considered it, and he asks why she came. She says, he knows what killed the cat, doesn’t he? She saw the news about Esme going to Spring Ridge. Does he want to throw a party? He says he wants something else, and she asks, what’s that? He says, someone he can trust.

Nina checks in at the hospital reception desk, telling the nurse that she’s here for a follow-up test to see if she’s a suitable match for bone marrow. How long does it take for her to find out she’s a match for Willow Tate, and where do they want her? The nurse says she’ll be right with her, and steps away. Sonny says he knows Nina is amped up, and she has every right to be, but she needs to slow it down, because she’s still processing the fact she’s Willow’s mother. Nina says, a fact Carly kept from her, and he says, but there is a possibility Nina will give Willow what she wants, and save her life. Nina just has a lot going on right now. She says she can handle it, and she can handle a lot more. She still can’t wrap her head around it. Yesterday, Willow was not her friend, and now she’s the daughter Nina didn’t know… She just can’t lose her.

Willow tells TJ that she let Dr. Navarro know she’s ready to have the baby. Whether that means inducing labor or having a C-section, she’s ready to move forward. TJ says, that’s such a relief, but Willow says she’s still worried about potential risks to the baby by having her prematurely. He asks, what changed her mind? and she says she doesn’t want to just give birth to this baby; she wants to raise her. She looks at Michael, and says, giving birth so she can get a bone marrow transplant increases the chance she’ll survive, so that’s what she wants to do. TJ says he’s not questioning her decision, but he doesn’t want them to get ahead of themselves. Willow says she knows. They still need to get confirmation that the woman who’s her biological… that Nina is a match, and they can go ahead with the transplant. TJ’s phone beeps, and he says, Nina just arrived for her follow-up test. Keep the faith. He’ll do everything else. Willow thanks him, and he leaves. She tells Michael that she still can’t believe it. After all the friction with Nina in her life, their whole family may depend on her. He says he can’t help thinking if they’d known sooner, this whole thing would have been over. Carly looks into the room window.

Valentin says he thinks some introductions are in order, and introduces Anna to Renee Levesque. Anna says, Valentin didn’t do her justice. She was expecting a little sewer rat. In French, Renee says, Valentin called her a rat? and he says, certainly not. He said she was a cataphile. He tells Anna that there’s a way Renee can help them find Lucy.

Heather says, she’s Esme’s m… mate, as in friend. Consider her an ally; Esme’s one woman support group. They’re all in this together at Spring Ridge. All of them are alike… misunderstood, lonely, lost… locked up. Esme says, unfortunately, that’s her, lost and locked up. She thought maybe Heather knew who she was, and why she’s locked up in this place, and Heather says she wishes she could tell Esme. She really has no memory at all of her past? Esme says, not one, and Heather says, that would explain it. Esme says, explain what? and Heather suggests they begin with introductions. She’s Heather. She shakes Esme’s hand, and Esme says she’s been told her name is Esme. Heather says, that’s a pretty name, from the French. It means beloved, loved. Esme says, Heather knows more than she does, and Heather says, she knows whoever gave Esme that special name must have loved her very much. Esme says, if they loved her so much, where are they now when she really needs them? and Heather says, who knows? Maybe they’re closer than she thinks. Esme says, they certainly weren’t there in the courthouse when the judge called her a menace to society, and sent her to come here. Heather says she sees Esme’s pregnant. Does she know how far along she is? Heather would guess her third trimester. She knows this isn’t a great prison, but it sure beats being sent to Pentenville, or the D’Archam nuthouse. Esme tells her, if you say so, and Heather invites her to sit down. Get to know each other better. They have all the time in the world.

Ava says she assumes Spencer wanted to meet to discuss the future of his family estate, and he says, Windymere. What about it? She says she thought his father or Uncle Victor would have told him. She plans to make Windymere the grand prize when she divorces Nikolas. He says, really? and she says, that wasn’t the reaction she anticipated. He says he admits there was a time when the family estate mattered a great deal to him, but now it’s more of a reminder of… She says, a reminder of what? Esme? He says, it isn’t Esme that he cares about; it’s the baby she’s carrying. Ava knows the baby is his father’s, and he knows the baby is his father’s, but Esme does not. She says, his father knows, and Spencer says, which is exactly why they have to make sure he never has the opportunity to ruin another life the way he ruined theirs.

Sonny says he refuses to believe Nina discovered she has a daughter, and she’s going to lose her. And he’s going to move heaven and earth to make sure Willow and that baby make it through this. She says she knows he can do anything he puts his mind to, but this is all on her, and whether or not she matches with Willow. TJ comes out, and asks if Nina is ready to have her blood drawn. She says she is, and asks if he’s doing it, but he says, the nurse will do the honors, but he wants to be there as Willow’s friend to supervise. Does she have a problem with that? Nina says, no, she doesn’t… Does he have a problem with it? She just wants to say again that she’s sorry… He says, someone’s life is at stake; his friend’s life. That’s all that matters. Nina agrees, and he asks her to follow him.

Michael asks what Carly is doing here, and she says she got all the way home, and realized she was taking the coward’s way out, so she came back. He says, not now. Nina is waiting for a test to confirm if she’s a bone marrow transplant match. She says, thank God, and he says, the point is, he doesn’t want anything upsetting Willow right now. Carly says, and the last thing Willow needs is her. She understands. Willow says, wait. She tells Carly, they’ve learned the hard way that keeping silent does the most harm, and Carly says, that’s why she’s back; to tell Willow that she’s really, really sorry. If she could go back to the night she found out Nina was Willow’s birth mother. If she knew then what she knows now… Michael says, so it’s Willow’s fault for keeping her condition a secret? but Carly says, no. She’s not second guessing or blaming. If she was in Willow’s shoes, she would have done the same thing. She would have done whatever it took to save her baby. Willow says, it’s the hardest decision she ever had to make, and Carly says she’s in awe of Willow’s courage, but if she’d known what Willow was facing, Willow has to believe she never would have kept secret who Willow’s birth mother was. Willow says, even if it was Nina? The woman who took everything from Carly?

In an exam room, Nina asks TJ why they have to do another test? Didn’t the cheek swab confirm she was a match? He says, the cheek swab was only an indicator she might be a match. Once they take her blood sample, they can compare it with Willow’s, and that will definitively tell them if she’s a match. Nina says, and then Willow will get a bone marrow transplant, and she’ll start to heal, and she’ll be able to have the baby. Sonny says he knows she’s excited, but they have to let TJ and the nurse do their job first. He asks TJ to give them a second, and TJ leaves with the nurse. Sonny tells Nina that Donna always gets a lollipop before she gets a shot. Is there anything he can do for her to take care of her? She says she doesn’t need a lollipop, but she does need him to do something. He says, name it, and she says, be happy for her.

Ava says, there was a time she had faith in Spencer’s father, and Spencer says, look where that faith has gotten her. He cheated on her with Spencer’s ex-girlfriend. She says, not that she believes in their marriage now, but there was a time she did. If that makes her a fool for love, so be it. At least she was happy for a time. Some people never even get that. He says, when he came back to town, he thought she was the root of all evil, and she says she knows; he was quite vocal on the subject. He says he knows now it was wrong. He thought, if only he could break up Ava and his father’s marriage, everything with him and his father would fall into place. Now he realizes the problem was never Ava; it was his father. She says, there’s no question Nikolas wronged them both, but he didn’t do all that damage on his own. He had a little help, from Esme.

Heather takes some yarn from a basket, and tells Esme, this is what we call occupational therapy. We make friendship bracelets. She pushes the basket toward Esme, saying, try it, but Esme pushes the basket away. Esme says, according to the cops and the staff at General Hospital, she has no friends. Heather says, that’s okay. Esme can have the one she’s making when she’s done with it. A gift from one new friend to another. Esme says, ever since she woke up in that hospital bed, she’s been treated like a criminal, or like this baby inside of her is some ticking time bomb, but Heather says, not anymore. She’s not going to let that happen. Esme says she doesn’t understand. They just met. Why does Heather care what happens to her?

Anna says, cataphile, that’s impressive. Did Renee go to school for that; the history and layout of prison catacombs? Renee says, but of course (🍷). She went to the school of hard knocks. She and Valentin learned together – she takes his arm – combing the catacombs at night. They’d pop up and have their pick of the finest jewelry shops in Paris. Anna asks what they did during the day, and Renee says, what the Parisians do better than anyone, and laughs. Valentin extracts himself, and says, as nice as it is to see Renee again, a woman’s life is at stake, and every second counts. He hands her a folder, and Renee says, they’ll keep it about business. Anna says, they need access to the compound. They need to gain entry, so they can get in and extract their prisoner, and then they need to get out. They’ll need to make a getaway. Valentin asks if Renee thinks it can be done, but she says, sadly, no…  except by the greatest cataphile of them all – moi. Anna asks if that means she’s willing to help them, and Renee says, for Valentin, she’ll do anything. She knows exactly which branch of the mines will afford them access to the compound. Anna says, Renee called them mines? and Renee says, it’s a common mistake to call them catacombs. The truth is, it’s a network of 15th century subterranean mines connected by large galleries. For their purposes, all that matters is she gets them where they want to go without detection. Valentin asks where she’s going, and she says, to make arrangements. Don’t worry. She’ll be back. She kisses him on both cheeks, leaving red lipstick prints. She leaves, and Anna says she’ll just clean him up a little bit, and wipes the lipstick off.

Heather says, Esme is right not to trust just anyone. Shows she has good breeding. She must come from good people. Esme tells her, if you say so. Then again, why should she trust Heather? Heather says, that’s my girl, and Esme asks what that means. Heather says she just meant, If they stick together, they can help each other. Most Ridgeans are harmless enough, but every place gets their share of riff-raff. Esme says, like who? and Heather says, like Ryan Chamberlain. She needs to avoid him at all costs. Esme tells her, Dr. Collins said he had a twin named Ryan, and he couldn’t hurt a fly, and Heather says, Ryan appears to be suffering from a physical condition that’s left him a bit declawed. But trust her. Stay away from him. He’s as sick as they come. Esme says, what about Heather? What did she do to end up in here? Heather says she loved too much. First, it was about her sons. One of them is in the slammer, and the other is six feet under. Esme says she’s sorry to hear that. Is there anyone else? Heather says, yes, a daughter; her one and only.

Spencer tells Ava, Esme is anything but an innocent victim. And even if it’s proven she’s not a killer, she’s no more fit to raise a child than his father is. That’s why he’s hoping to hire Diane Miller to sue for custody. She says, he wants custody, even though the child isn’t his? and he says, yes. It may not be his child, but it will be his half-sibling; his flesh and blood. That baby will be the only innocent person in this family, and if there’s any hope of salvaging something good out of all the pain and lies his father has inflicted on them, it lies with that baby. She asks, what was Diane’s reaction? and he says, Diane told him it’s a long shot, but she would consider going to war for him. Ava says, Diane’s no fool. If she thinks there’s a chance… She asks if he’s told his father his intentions, but Spencer says, he’ll know when the time is right. She asks what Trina thinks of his plan, but he doesn’t answer. She says, he hasn’t told Trina either, has he?

Carly tells Willow that Nina didn’t take anything from her. Sonny made his choices, and the MetroCourt is just real estate. She has her family, and Willow and her baby are a part of that family. She’d never knowingly put Willow at risk. Michael says, but she did by keeping the truth from Willow, and Carly says she was just trying to protect Willow. She was so worried about the harm Nina would cause, and she knew if Nina wormed her way into Willow’s life, she wouldn’t stop there. Michael says, just call it what it is. It was revenge. Carly says, it was not, and Willow says she needs to talk to Carly alone. Michael says, anything for her, and leaves. Carly sits down, and says, it’s just them. Say what she needs to say; don’t hold back. Willow says, don’t worry. She won’t.

Sonny says he’s happy for Nina. He just starts thinking about Carly and how she kept that secret from Nina and Willow, when it could have been life and death. Nina says, let her make this clear. She has no intentions of forgiving and forgetting what Carly did to her, but right now it’s about saving her daughter. Her whole life, she wanted a child. She thought she had a chance with Sasha, but that was just a cruel lie. Then she found out Nelle was her daughter after she was dead. It’s like this incredible gift was given to her; she gets to be a mother. And no matter how Willow feels about her, no matter their history, Willow needs her. Sonny says, Willow is lucky to have her, but Nina says she’s lucky to have Willow even more. She needs Willow just as much. TJ and the nurse come back, and TJ asks if they’re good to go. Sonny says, they’re good, and leaves. Nina says, let’s do this, and hops onto the examining table.  

Willow says, for not one minute does she believe Carly would deliberately hurt her, but it wasn’t Carly’s decision to make. Once Carly found out who her mother was, Carly owed it to Willow to tell her; to trust her to be able to handle it. She’s not made of glass. She lost a child and thought she’d die with him, but she didn’t. She found the strength to go on. And if it’s not too late, she prays she has the strength to live for Michael, Wiley, and their new baby. Carly says, Willow is right. She did the very thing she’d hate if it were done to her. She didn’t trust Willow to stand up for herself. She asks if Willow can find it in her heart to forgive her, and Willow says she’s forgiven Carly already. (Pfft!) Carly thanks her, and says she’s so sorry. She’s so grateful for Willow, and loves Willow as if she was her own daughter. She’s going to let Willow get some rest. If there’s anything she needs… Willow asks if Carly will stop by the house, and give Wiley a hug. Carly says she can do that. She truly prays that Nina comes through for Willow and the baby. Willow says, so does she.

Valentin gives Anna a glass of wine, and tells her, before she says anything, there’s nothing going on between him and Renee. Anna says she knows. Not now, but in the past. He says, remember the smash and grab robberies he told her about that he engineered in Prague, Berlin, Milan, Paris of course (🍷)? Renee was a key part of the operation because of her understanding about the catacombs. He thinks it was for the thrill; she enjoyed being a rule breaker. She says, and him? and he says, it was an opportunity to make a large sum of money by separating some very rich people from their baubles. He’s never claimed to be a choir boy. However, he’s made some very generous donations to charity, and the high end jewelry stores were heavily insured. She says, so it’s a victimless crime, but he tells her, he wouldn’t say that. But there are far uglier ways to make money. She says, and Renee? and he tells her, like he said, she was in it for the thrill, but there was never a real connection; not like he has with her. She says she just wonders if they can trust her. It’s not jealousy, but he’s climbed out of the catacombs into the light, and she wonders if Renee is in it for an easy score or to break some more rules. He says, Lucy’s life is at stake. There’s no time to find anyone else, at least not with Renee’s skills. So how does she want to play this?

Outside, somewhere in Paris, Gavin says, they took their sweet time getting there. It’s freezing. We see he’s meeting Renee, and she hands him some cash. She asks if this will keep him warm. There’s more where this came from. Does he still work for Victor Cassadine? He says, who? and she says, askMonsieur Cassadine what it’s worth to him to have his son and Anna served up en brochette.

Heather tells Esme that her little girl was taken from her when she was just a baby. Esme says she wishes someone would take hers, but Heather tells her, don’t ever say that. Getting her little girl back, and keeping her safe and happy is all she lives for. She grabs Esme’s hand, and says, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do… Esme says, Heather is hurting her, and Heather says she’s sorry. Esme asks the guard if her room is ready, but Heather says, don’t leave yet. They’ve just begun to get acquainted.

There’s a knock at Willow’s door, and Sonny says he got her message that she wanted to see him. She says she can’t believe she’s saying this, but how’s Nina?

Michael goes to the chapel, and kneels down, then gets hit by a lightning bolt. He says he’s not asking for him. He’s asking for Wiley and the baby and Willow. He knows there’s going to be a lot of baggage dealing with Nina as Willow’s mother in the future, but that’s next week’s problem. For today, please let them be a match. Just… give Willow a chance. That’s all he’s asking. He hears the door open, and Carly is there.

In French, Renee tells Valentin, it’s all been arranged. She’ll lead them tomorrow through the underground network. Through the twists and turns until they reach the compound. From there, they can find the prisoner and set her free. He says he knew he could count on her. What did he tell Anna? She’s one of a kind. Anna tells him, she’s everything he said she’d be, and more so. Renee says, just like old times. N’c’est pas, mon amour? She touches his face, and asks Anna if they’re in this together.

Spencer tells Ava, looping Trina in would only complicate her life, which is something he’s done plenty of already. She says, he can’t have it both ways. He can’t try to renew his friendship with Trina, and keep her in the dark about such a big move. Or hasn’t he learned anything from the last time, when he came back to town with Esme? He asks if Ava really thinks he should tell Trina, and she says she does. Tell her, and let her make the choice if she wants to be involved. He says, she’s right, but he didn’t ask her here to get advice. She says, then what? She knows Diane is expensive, but he certainly doesn’t need her money or approval. He says, if he’s going to go up against his father, he can’t do it alone.

Heather follows Esme to the other side of the room, and says she’s sorry if she came on too strong. Seeing Esme in the family way pushed her buttons. Does she know if it’s a boy or a girl? Has she picked any names? Esme says she just met Heather, and what she decides to do with this baby is strictly her business. Does Heather understand? Heather says she understands completely. That baby isn’t just an inconvenience to Esme, no matter how she tries to pretend. Esme cares about her child. Almost as much as Heather cares about hers.

Carly says she’ll keep her distance, but Michael says, Willow needs all of their prayers. She tells him that he keeps saying what Willow needs; what about him? Does he have room in his heart for her?

Valentin tells Anna, they have to move quickly before Victor learns of their plan and moves Lucy to another location. It’s now or never. Anna looks at Renee, and says, then it’s now.

Michael says he knows what Carly wants to hear, but he can’t deal with her right now. All that matters is Willow, and he needs to be with her. He walks out.

Willow says she doesn’t know if there will be a happy ending for her, but Sonny tells her, don’t say that. She’s going have beautiful baby, and get much better. Trust him. She says, even he can’t guarantee that. So if it turns out she’s not here for her family, she needs him and Michael to stop being enemies; become father and son again. She’s not saying it will be easy. Sonny will have to earn it, but please do whatever he can to win Michael’s forgiveness. Because she knows Michael needs him, and Sonny needs Michael. He takes her hand, and says he’s going to do what he can. Take care of his grandchild, understand him? She nods, and Sonny leaves.  

Ava says, Diane already warned Spencer that he’s in for a fight. She knows Nikolas, and he won’t hesitate to play dirty when it comes to the custody of his child. Spencer says he’s ready. After all, his father taught him all those same dirty tricks. She says she admires his initiative, but he’s right. He’s going to need all the help he can get. He’s going to have to count on somebody who’s willing to get down and dirty too. Spencer asks if she has anyone in mind, and she points to herself.

The guard says, Esme’s room is ready, and Esme jets. Heather says she knows it’s just Esme’s hormones talking. She understands what Esme is going through. The guard escorts Esme down the hall, and Heather yells that she’ll be here when Esme needs her. She goes back to the table, and yells, wait. Esme forgot her bracelet. She clutches the bracelet to her chest.

TJ comes back to the exam room, and says he thought Nina would be long gone by now. He personally made sure the lab has her bloodwork, so there’s nothing more she can do until they get the results. She says she just wanted to know what’s next. She knows she’s going to be a match. Does he know how soon Willow can get her transplant? He says, nothing can happen until Willow gives birth. After that, she’ll go through another round of chemotherapy to kill the diseased cells. After that, they take stem cells from Nina, and inject them in Willow’s bloodstream. Nina says, okay, and then? and he says, if all goes well, Willow will produce healthy new blood cells. Nina says, all has to go well.

Michael goes back to Willow’s room, and asks if there’s any news. Is Nina a match? She says, nothing yet, and he tells her that he said a prayer for her and the baby. She says she needs all the prayers she can get, and he says, that’s what he told his mom. Willow might be able to forgive her, but he’s not sure he can. They hug.

Carly is in the chapel when Sonny walks in.

Tomorrow, Curtis says they’d like Marshall’s help with the ceremony; Josslyn says she’d never make Spencer choose sides, but clearly he already has; Dex says, the sooner this is over for him, the better; and Sonny says, Carly might be able to lie to herself, but not to him.

What I Watched Today

(rambling, random thoughts & annoyingly detailed recaps from real time TV watching)

General Hospital

On the bullhorn, Jordan tells Holly that it’s her last chance and to give herself up. Inside the cabin, a woman grabs the briefcase, knocking the lantern over and starting a fire – we can’t see her face. Jordan says she doesn’t like this, and tells Mac to give the order to move, but Robert says, give her a chance to do the right thing. Jordan says, she’s had a chance, multiple ones. Time’s up. There’s an explosion inside the cabin, and debris blows everywhere. Robert says he has to get in there, but Mac holds him back.

Curtis and Portia struggle over a piece of pie, and Curtis says he promised N’neka, but Porta says, N’neka gets plenty of pies and other things from her Savoy suitors. This pie is for Terry. It’s praise-worthy pie. He says he knows; he baked it. She says, with her sweet potato pie recipe, and he says he’ll surrender that piece of pie in exchange for something just as sweet. They kiss, and Trina slips out the back door. On the patio, Marshall says, sneaking out?

Brook tells Chase that she’s starving, and Olivia will kill them if they hold things up. She starts to leave, but he says, look at him. Was she ever going to tell him about the CCRB letter she never wrote? She acts like she’s not sure what he’s talking about, and he says, the letter she told Dante that she’d write; the one that might give him a fighting chance to get his badge back.

Britt goes up to the bar at The Savoy, bumping Ava as she sits down. She orders a Cosmo, tells Ava, her bad, and asks how Ava’s Thanksgiving was. Ava says, it was great; she had Avery. Britt tells N’neka to put Ava’s drinks on her tab, and Ava says, not necessary, but very nice. She asks how Britt’s Thanksgiving was, and Britt says, amazing. It had highs, lows, my mother, cranberry from a can. It was very traditional. Now it’s time for her to get her groove on. Cody walks in, and Britt says, one more box to check. Ava says, which is? and Britt says, a little somethin’ somethin’, when Nikolas walks in, and catches Ava’s eye.

Also at The Savoy, Victor sits alone at a table, and Selina tells him, happy Thanksgiving. He says, and to her, and she asks if he enjoyed a family celebration earlier. He gestures for her to sit, and says, just with his nephew. Sadly, he couldn’t gather the other Cassadines for a celebration of turkey and conviviality. His phone dings, and Selina says she’s sorry, but he tells her not to shed any tears on his account. That’s all going to be changing going forward. He sees a text from Gavin (no doubt the guy I’ve been calling Johann): Have approx. location on Holly. En route. Victor texts back: Necklace top priority. Holly expendable. He tells Selina, he hopes soon to have the incentive he needs to bring his family together.

The woman in the cabin, now consumed by fire, runs out and flails around the yard before finally falling down. Robert screams, Holly! and breaks away from Mac, grabbing a blanket and throwing it over her. Mac runs over, and Robert looks under the blanket, and yells, no! I guess it must be her. Jordan tells an officer to cordon off the area. Canvas the cabin, and find out if anyone within a one-mile radius saw or heard anything. The paramedics tend to Holly, and Mac pulls Robert away. Robert says, she needs him, and one of the paramedics says, they need to move her, or she’s not going to make it.

Selina tells Victor, family can be so troublesome, and ungrateful. She’s been tempted to disavow herself of the whole lot. He laughs, and says, not so easily done. Biological imperative compels us to protect our clan, no matter how sorry a bunch they might be. She says, it seems they have much in common, and asks if she can call him Victor. He says, if he can call her Selina, and she says she’d like to continue their conversation. Perhaps they can compare notes. He raises his glass to her.

Ava tells Britt that she never associated Thanksgiving with trysts. Most people just want a nap. Britt says, when you’re in her position, you carpe diem and carpe dictum, and Ava asks, what position is that? Britt says, hard up. She’s been without since Jason, and before him, there was one forgettable wham-bam with Jax, then a fling thing with Ava’s brother. She hasn’t had relationship sex since… wow… 2014. Nikolas joins them, and Britt adds, with Ava’s husband.

Obrecht stomps over to Cody and says, you – with me, and he follows her out.

Curtis asks what Portia thinks about their first family Thanksgiving, and she says, definitely deserving of high marks. And the food was fantastic. She even overheard his father telling Stella that his son’s turkey was so good. It’s true; she’ll give him that. Curtis says, he’s just so grateful that he has a father to fuss with. Tommy never got that chance, and he intends to make the most of his, just in case this disease tries to take his father away again. What are the chances it rears back up? I’m guessing none, since I don’t think Marshall has schizophrenia.

Trina asks if Marshall pulled guard duty, and he says he’s just minding his own business, cleaning his clarinet. She wraps a blanket around herself, and asks if he isn’t cold. He says he’s wearing a sweater. Curtis busted his chops, and highly suggested he could keep Trina company. He figured boredom would drive her out here sooner or later. She says, here she thought she and Curtis were making progress, and Marshall says, he means well. She says she knows, but it’s not like she’s out here asking to be attacked by a freak with a hook. She just needs to breathe. She’s climbing the walls being shut up most of the time. He says he knows the feeling. Been there; done that.

Brook says, Dante told Chase about the letter? and he says, Dante assumed he knew; that Brook had looped him in. He figured she just hadn’t had the time to write it yet, what with making music and scamming Linc. She says, they’ve been crazy busy, right? Every day, all day, she’s hustling for every number Chase performs, setting up interviews and promos. She can barely breathe. He says, it’s a lot of work, and she’s thrown herself into it, and she says, letting all her responsibilities at Deception slide… He says, so maybe she wanted to and just didn’t find the  time. Maybe she thought she did tell him, or maybe she drafted the letter, and didn’t want to spring it on him until it was perfect. He’d understand anything; just tell him. When was she going to let him know Dante asked her to write a letter to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, recommending he get his badge back? She doesn’t say anything, and he says, never? She says she meant to tell him once they got Linc, but he says, that’s not a sure thing. She says, neither is her letter, but he says, Dante told him that her account of his run-ins with Valentin and Linc would go a long way in getting him right with the Board. She says, what’s to stop Linc from having his say? That liar could deny everything. Chase’s best shot at getting his badge back is after they beat Linc, and expose him for the skeeze that he is. She takes Chase’s hands, and says, once they prove Linc has no credibility, is when he can march into the CCRB with her letter, and prove he never gave up on law and order, just because law and order gave up on him. He says, that timetable doesn’t work; which he could have told her if she’d let him in on what was happening. But she didn’t. He can’t think of a single reason why she wouldn’t just tell him. She says, there is only one good reason; the only reason she needed. Us.

Trina says she didn’t mean compare being shut up with family with what Marshall went through when he was hospitalized, and Marshall says, let’s see. You can’t leave when you want to. Your mother and Curtis watch your every move. You can’t see the man in your life, Officer Cabrera. They share enough similarities to make them understand one another. She says she doesn’t think she could ever really understand what he went through, and he says he hopes she never does. She says, he doesn’t talk much about it… you know… He says, having schizophrenia. Why dwell on yesterday, when today’s so rich, and tomorrow’s so bright.

Portia says she can’t tell Curtis if Marshall is going to have another schizophrenic episode. She’s not a psychiatrist; she’s not even up on the latest science. He tells her, Marshall said he never had an episode, not since the arrest that institutionalized in the first place. Maybe Marshall caught a break, like he did, dodging his father’s genetic markers.

Ava and Nikolas gaze into each other’s eyes, and Britt says, they’re so cute. Look at them; coupled up, wedded bliss. Ava says, aren’t they though? and Nikolas says he saw Britt’s mother over there. Britt tells him, her mother says marriage is for the bourgeois. Britt thinks it would be nice if her significant other knew what toppings she likes on her hot dog, or took the wine glass out of her hand when she fell asleep on the couch. Someone who would throw her a birthday party and serve her favorite cake… or just say happy birthday. Ava says, Britt never had a birthday party? and Britt says, no birthday party, no husband. Nikolas says, she still has time, and Britt says, ain’t it the truth? She asks N’neka to get her and her friends another round.

Selina says, Victor’s nephew appears to be occupied with his wife, and Victor says, soon to be ex-wife. Selina says she’s sorry to hear that, but he says, don’t be. It was an imprudent match to begin with; harmful to both of them. It was never meant to last. Selina says, love never is, but that alone never stopped anyone from fighting for it.

Robert goes with Holly to the ambulance, saying, he loves her; hang in there. Mac stops a paramedic, and asks about Holly’s condition, and the paramedic tells him, on observation, it looks like she has burns over 75% of her body. GH is good, but she needs better, so they’re taking her to a burn unit. They’ve radioed for a medivac. Robert says he’s going with her, but Mac says, he’ll just get in the way of the paramedics. He’ll drive Robert to the airfield. Robert tells Mac to get out of his way before he belts him one, when Jordan interrupts, saying, this is a crime scene. She needs her Chief of Detectives. She tells Robert to move, and he leaves.

Portia says, Curtis and his father are lucky, no matter what the reason is. She hopes some of that luck rubs off on Trina. She can’t wait for Esme to be brought to justice. Speaking of Trina, where is she? They look outside, and see her on the patio with Marshall.

Trina says, Marshall has a way of putting things into perspective, and he says, everybody has their burdens. But no one carries it with grace such as hers. Curtis comes out, carrying the piece of pie, Portia behind him. He tells Marshall, the game is on, and Marshall gets up. He says he guesses Portia is going to watch the game with him, and she says she’ll definitely be watching. Enjoy the pie. Marshall asks if that’s the last piece of pie; he doesn’t believe this. He and Portia go inside, and Curtis puts down the pie near Trina, and sits down. She pushes it away, and he says, okay, her loss. He thought it would take the edge off after being caught in his net.

Chase says, Brook took away his best chance at getting his badge back for them? She says she’s never had this before. She’s been with other guys – she’s not exactly Snow White – but true intimacy? Not once. She was starting to think she wasn’t capable of a true connection, but then he came along. She realized, not only was intimacy possible, but it’s here, between them. Since they started working together, it’s only gotten deeper and stronger. If she never gets Linc, if she never gets her songs back, if she never exposes Linc for the creep that he is, she’d be okay. She’s be frustrated and disappointed, but she’d still be okay. Because the true gift is, every minute, she gets closer to him. She thought he felt the same way. He says he does, and she says, that’s why she didn’t tell him about the letter. She thought everything they were doing together was better than anything they’ve done alone. She thought, given enough time, he’d forget about the badge, and what he really wanted would be here with her. Just tell her she’s right.

Outside The Savoy, Cody says he thought he and Obrecht were getting along better. Is he still in the hole for punching Scotty? She says she was moved by his apology, as well as Britt’s endorsement of him. Her feelings are immaterial; only Britta’s matter. She’s a fundamentally lonely person, yearning for what she’s never had; someone to rely on. Now is no time to look for a substitute. Britt can’t do with a romantic distraction; she needs her mother. They both know Britt is headstrong, and behaves contrary to wisdom, and Cody is persistent. So… If it’s money he wants, then it’s money he shall have.

Britt asks Nikolas to be her wingman, and help scope out the sponge-worthy. She stumbles a little, and he asks if she’s okay. Ava suggests she sit down, when Selina comes over with Victor, and asks if there’s a problem. Britt says she just slipped, and Selina asks if she’s been overserved. Britt says she just had one drink, and Selina says, come with her. She tries to take Britt’s arm, but Britt throws Selina’s hand off, and almost falls again. Victor comes on the other side of her, putting her drink on the bar, and he and Selina head for a table with her.

The ambulance stops in the middle of nowhere, and the paramedics get out. Dressed as one of them, Felicia opens the back, and says, all clear. Holly sits up, and takes her head covering off. Robert asks if she’s all right, and she says, right as rain. She’s all fired up. Wow. I really thought it must be someone else, since we couldn’t see who she was. Well done.

Chase tells Brook, singing’s been a pleasant surprise. He had more fun than he thought he would. And it’s not just the performing or celebrity; it’s her. He would have never tried to be Chase the singer with anyone but her. She says, he’s got her, so there’s no problem, but he says, the problem is, he’s not Chase the singer. That’s just some face he was wearing that’s not his. She says, but it could be. She’s seen him when he gets up on stage; he comes alive. He’s so in the moment when he sings. He says, and right when he’s done, he’s checking his newsfeed. He has this fantasy that he’s the one who finds Brando’s killer; that he could still do some good at the PCPD. She says, he can. She never expected him to give up the cop forever; just put him on mute for a while. He says, until he forgets the sound of his voice altogether? Maybe she’s right. He can forget he’s a cop, and focus all his energy on singing, given enough time. But it has to be his choice. Does she get that? And she took that away from him.

Trina says she thought she and Curtis had an understanding after their discussion on boundaries, and he says he thought he’d given her a wide berth. She says, it doesn’t feel that way, and he says, they agreed he wouldn’t go behind her back and butt into her life. He did that. He even refrained from butting in from the front. He’s up for a Nobel Peace Prize. She says, which he’ll lose after assigning his father to guard her, but he says, all he did was set up a watch to keep eyes out for Esme Prince. A man is allowed to protect his castle, and all who reside in it.  

Marshall tells Portia, Trina’s not going anywhere. She’s just feeling hemmed in. She thanks him for talking to Trina, and helping her get some of that out, and asks if he’d mind possibly playing for them tonight. He says, sure, and she asks if his illness ever gets in the way of him playing. She’s sorry… He says, no, that’s okay. No one’s ever asked. The only way schizophrenia got between him and his music was when he had to go underground to protect his family from the stigma. She says, so it never inhibited his performance? and he says, just his ambitions. Why all the questions?

Mac asks Jordan if there’s any idea what caused the explosion, and she says, the theory is a faulty stove. She has to get her people inside. Hopefully there’s some evidence to explain Holly’s strange behavior. He hands her an evidence bag, and says, maybe this will help. The firefighters pulled it out. She asks what it is, and he says, the remains of Robert’s briefcase; the one he put the necklace in. She says, so where’s the necklace?

Holly thanks Felicia for the clothes, and Felicia says she’s happy she got the sizes right. She has Holly’s new passport and her international driver’s license. Does she feel better? Holly says, just a little singed around the edges. Robert joins them, and says, that was something. Holly says she’s just sorry he and Mac had to see it; she can’t imagine what it looked like. Felicia says, the danger was minimal. She and Holly worked it out to a tee. Holly tells her, thank you for that… We see Felicia meeting Holly, and Holly says, Felicia was waiting for me when I arrived at the cabin last night. They go inside, and Felicia gives Holly some things out of a duffel bag. Holly says, with fireproof garments, and fire retardant gel to make the ruse look real. Felicia tells her to put it on her face, and Holly says, we went over the instructions on how to rig the stove at the appointed time. Back at the ambulance, Felicia says, Holly flambé. She can’t believe Holly was able to work it out in time. Robert says, they had no choice, and Holly says, they were operating on Victor’s timetable. She couldn’t just hand over the necklace. Robert says, she couldn’t defy Victor either, and Holly says, or Ethan would have paid the price. She and Robert faked Robert’s drugging, so she’d have the opportunity to steal the necklace, and lay a trail to the cabin for the PCPD to find. Robert says, it only works if they have a credible witness to Holly’s injuries, and Holly says, because Ethan’s only chance of survival is if Victor believes she’s of no more use to him.

Cody says, Obrecht’s willing to pay him to stay away from Britt? and she says she’s prepared to give him six figures. He says he doesn’t want her money. He just wants what, by rights, should belong to him. She says, Dominique’s inheritance, and he says, yeah, and he wanted something else; not something, someone. She says, her daughter, and he says he thought he could have both. Boy, did he misjudge that situation. Now it looks like he can’t have either, but maybe all he wanted was Britt. Obrecht will be happy to know, he blew it big time. Her daughter wants nothing to do with him. She says, perhaps Britta’s learned some wisdom after all, and he says, she can tell Britt that he can take no for an answer, and he can take living hand to mouth. So Obrecht can keep her money, and not worry about him dogging Britt. He doesn’t want to go where he’s not wanted. Obrecht says she’ll make sure Britt knows, and he says he’s sure she will. One more thing. What’s wrong with Britt? Why is Obrecht willing to go broke just to keep him away from her? Obrecht says, sorry. Answers were never on offer.

Britt shakes off Victor and Selina as they get to the table, and Victor says he’s going to get her mother. Britt says, leave her mother out of this, and leave her alone. Selina says she’s getting Britt a cab, but Britt says, this is ridiculous. She had one drink. Victor says, not counting the drinks she had on the way over, and Britt says she can handle her liquor. Selina says, but she can’t even stand up straight unaided, and Victor says, wait. This isn’t alcohol, is it? Britt’s sick.

Ava says, Victor won’t be very pleased, seeing Nikolas consorting with the enemy, and Nikolas says he has no intention of divorcing her. She says she had no intention of becoming bait for the PCPD, but sometimes, one never knows what the day may bring. He asks what she’s talking about, and she says, Mac Scorpio thinks Ryan Chamberlain can lead them to Esme if she convinces him to.

Victor says, Faison’s legacy, and Britt says, shut up about that, when Obrecht flies in between them. She slaps Victor, and says, touch her daughter, and she’ll kill him. Selina says, everyone, calm down, and Cody hustles Victor off, suggesting they take a walk. Britt says, he’s going to tell people, but Obrecht says, he wouldn’t dare. There’s a special place in hell for men like that. Selina says, the Ninth Circle… I’ve heard it said.  

Robert gives Holly some keys, and says, the car’s untraceable. Drive it over the border to Canada, and with her new ID, she can disappear. She says, Victor will follow up, but he says, witnesses will recall there was a woman placed in a medivac. Felicia says, yours truly. She’ll be dropped off outside Port Charles, and flight plans will indicate Holly Sutton was transferred to a plane transporting her to a burn clinic halfway across the world. Robert says, very private, very secure, and Felicia says, reports will have her comatose with a long, difficult recovery. Robert says, and Victor will probably lose interest, leaving her free to rescue her son. Holly says she won’t squander their efforts, and Felicia says she knows that. Holly thanks them for everything they’ve done on her behalf and her son’s. She just wishes they didn’t have to leave Mac in the dark, but Felicia says, this way, Mac can’t lie to Jordan about Holly. Besides, he’d be the first to agree she’s worth it. Holly wonders how she can ever repay them, and Felicia hugs her, saying, get her son back, and get Victor. Holly says she’s working on it. She remembers…

Selina holds up a diamond, and says, interesting. Holly says, satisfied? and Selina says, she’d prefer the entire necklace, but Holly says, that’s all that’s available, and only in exchange for the guarantee that Victor Cassadine ingests this. She holds up a vial, and asks if it can be done. Selina says she sees Victor at The Savoy on occasion, but she can’t have the club associated with a death. Holly says, if she wanted Victor dead, he’d be dead. He’ll only feel the effects of this drug if the circumstances arise… or don’t. Selina asks, what did Victor do to earn Holly’s animosity? and Holly says, Victor fancies himself a family man, whilst he’s holding her son hostage. She’ll never get Ethan back if Victor is dead. In the meantime, a dose of this will pay him back in kind. Selina says, there’s a special place in hell for such men, and Holly says, the Ninth Circle. Will she do it? Selina says, Holly has her word, and takes the vial.

N’neka brings Victor another drink, and he raises his glass to Selina, who looks at the vial in her hand. She says, and my word is my bond.

Curtis says, Trina’s not a prisoner. He just wants to make sure she’s safe and sound while she’s here. If she doesn’t like his rules, they’re only temporary. But he does need her to respect them, just as he respects her boundaries. And while he hopes this doesn’t compromise the friendship they decided to try out, he’ll understand if it does. She says, two steps forward, one step back is still progress. Fork? He gives her the fork, and she snatches the pie away, telling him, don’t squander that progress. He says he made that pie, and she says, from her mom’s recipe. He throws up his hands in surrender.

Portia says she guesses she’s just curious that none of Marshall’s doctors ever suggested genetic counseling or screening like Curtis had. He says, things like that weren’t around back when he was in the hospital, but she says, those things are commonplace nowadays. Has he ever considered it? and he says, what’s the point? He already has a diagnosis. What would genetic counseling tell him that he doesn’t already know? Um… what I said before.

Chase tells Brook, the only way he’d want to become a singer is if he decides himself, but she never gave him that option. She says she thought he wanted it as much as she did, and he says, to take down Linc? Sure, but she knew how bad he wanted to return to the PCPD. So when Dante asked her to write the letter, she didn’t tell him because she knew he’d be all for it. She says she never thought of it like that, and he says he’s been where she is, making decisions for others, and personal experience showed him just how wrong it was. He did it with Willow. She says, so that’s it? He’s hanging up the mic? She gets it. He says, she doesn’t. It’s not just the mic; it’s us. His singing career is over, and so are they.

Nikolas tells Ava that she can’t be in Ryan’s presence; it’s too dangerous. She says, Ryan is a  turnip, and any danger would be worth it to protect Trina. Esme is out there killing people, and she has to do what she can to stop her, even if it means she pays the price for Esme going over the parapet… or he does.

Marshall asks, what would be the benefit after all these years, to get confirmation of what he already knows? when Trina and Curtis come back in. Portia says, somebody enjoyed the pie, and Curtis says, the pie that he barely got to taste. Is Marshall ready for some football? Marshall says, let’s do this, and puts on the TV.

Brook tells Chase to think about what he’s saying, and he says, she’s the most exciting person he’s ever met. She made him feel like the luckiest guy alive. She says, he made her feel the same way, and he says, but then they went in on this plan to expose Linc, and it muddied things up for the both of them. They should have set boundaries; either working together as singer and manager, or two people who can’t get enough of each other. But not both, because now they don’t work as anything. She tells him, don’t say that. That’s not true. They can work this out. He says, she lied to him. She kept him from the thing that makes him who he is. There’s nothing to work out. It’s over. He leaves, and she cries.

Britt tells Obrecht, everything was fine. She could swallow her drink, then suddenly, her feet fell out from under her. Obrecht says she’s so sorry. Let’s go home. Britt asks why Obrecht’s never thrown her a birthday party, and Obrecht says she must have some time, but Britt says, she didn’t. She’s going to throw herself a birthday party to end all parties. If she’s going down, she’s going down dancing, even if she’s dancing on her own. Obrecht helps Britt out of the club, as Cody watches.

Holly tells Robert, so this is goodbye. She’s sorry for everything. Most of all, she’s sorry for coming back to him only to leave again. If there was any other way… He says, there isn’t, and she says, this isn’t their moment. He says, it never is, but she says she recalls a certain… Goodbye, Robert. He asks if she isn’t forgetting something, and she kisses him, but he says he actually meant something else. She says, oh? and he says, the necklace.

Mac says, the firefighters didn’t see a necklace, and Jordan says, call CSU. They need to conduct their own search. They need to make sure nobody walked out with it. He says, it’s possible Holly ditched the necklace, or handed it off to Victor before holing up, and Jordan says, or she had it on her when she left with the paramedics. He says he’ll check with Robert. It’s possible it got destroyed in the fire. She says, a diamond necklace? and he says, a hot enough fire can turn diamond to ash. It might be gone for good. She says, the WSB is going to be pissed

Victor swirls his drink, and drains his glass. His phone dings, and a text from Gavin says: Holly disabled. Necklace missing. Victor shatters his glass on the table.

Holly tells Robert, oh, the necklace. She almost forgot. They laugh, and she takes it out of her pocket, giving it to him. She asks why Victor wanted it so badly. What’s so special about it? He says, it came from the Ice Princess itself. He thinks it has something to do with the diamonds. She says, the Ice Princess has a bad habit of destroying those who covet it. Be careful. He says he’s always careful, and she says, except with his heart, touching his chest. He says, be seeing you, and she slowly walks away. She turns, blows him a kiss, and walks into the mist.

Tomorrow, Sasha tells Chase, in her heart, Brook was doing it for them both; Nina says she hopes Willow can help out a friend; Carly asks Josslyn if Dex is a factor in her decision; and Sonny says, if something is too good to be true, it usually is.

Ava lets herself into Windymere, and Nikolas pops out of the living room. She asks if he’s been lurking there until she came in, and he says, would that be so wrong? She wonders if he doesn’t have anything better to do than wait for her to come home, and she sees he has candles lit and champagne waiting in the living room. He asks, what’s better than spending time alone with his wife?

At the gallery, Trina says she gets how being productive could be important to Spencer, and he says, she always does. She says, not like Esme gets him though, right? She says she’ll leave him a to-do list, so he can get home to his phony, twisted witch he calls the love of his life. He says, Esme is anything but that, and Esme is about to walk in and stops. Trina says, anything but what? A twisted witch or the love of his life?

On the phone at the hospital, Carly says she’s fine. They discharged her, but she’s going to wait around to see if Harmony is all right. For Willow’s sake. Her whole world has been turned upside down tonight.

Willow and Michael go into the chapel, and she tells him not to feel like he has to stay with her. She just wants to make sure her mom is okay. He says he texted Josslyn. She’s on her way, so he’s not going anywhere. Unless she wants to be alone. She says she wants him here with her, and they hug. She wonders what her mother was doing; walking down a road at night in the woods by herself. It doesn’t make any sense. He says, hopefully, they’ll know more soon, and she says, she and her mother were just getting close. If she doesn’t make it, Willow will never forgive herself for pushing her away.

Sasha digs in her bag, and takes out her pillbox, but it’s empty. Gladys says, there she is. Sasha left so fast, her shoes left skidmarks. Sasha says, Willow didn’t see her, did she? but Gladys says, no. The poor thing is a mess. Michael took her to the chapel; they were headed in that direction. It’s probably going to be a while before the doctors can tell her anything about her mom. Unless of course (🍷)… Unless it’s not as bad as they thought. She suggests they sit, but Sasha says she has to get out of here. Brando comes in and she runs to him. He tells her, it’s okay, he’s got her, but she says, no, it’s not okay. She might have killed Willow’s mother.

Nikolas pours champagne, and says, he shouldn’t have taken for granted that she was coming home. She asks if he’s wooing her, and he says, what if he is? Dinner might have been a bust, but there’s still plenty of time for dessert. They clink glass, but she says, it’s not going to work, and hands hers back. He asks, why? and she says she’s made her position clear. As long as Esme is here… He says, she isn’t here, and Ava says, since when? He says, Laura stopped by earlier. She got Sonny to give his word nothing will happen to Esme. Now Esme can go back to the mainland, and they can devote all of their time to each other.

Esme continues to listen in, and Spencer says, things with Esme are complicated, but Trina says, they’re not. Would he like her to explain what’s going on here? He’s keeping her on the hook. She let herself believe that he can be a better person. He misses that feeling, and now he’s trying to reel her in. He says, that’s not… and she says, it’s the only explanation she can come up with. He’s giving her mixed signals. He says, he’s not, and she asks what that jealous act was before. He says, he is not jealous of that guy, and she says, so what? Who cares if he’s jealous or not? He made his choice. Deal with it. Just remember, he threw their friendship away for some psycho girlfriend. Esme comes out, and says, she’s not the psycho; Trina is.

Josslyn comes into the waiting area and hugs Carly. Carly asks what she’s doing here, and Josslyn tells her, Michael said she was in the ER. Is she okay? Carly says she’s fine, and Josslyn says, Michael told her that Willow’s mom got in a car accident. Was she involved? Carly says she wasn’t there when Harmony got hit by the car, and Josslyn says, thank God. She was freaking out the whole way here. She doesn’t know what she’d do if anything happened to Carly. Carly says, it didn’t, and Josslyn asks, then what was she doing in the ER?

Willow tells Michael, you’d think at a time like this, she’d be able to focus on the good times, but with her and her mother, there are no good times not touched by the bad. It’s impossible to separate the two. He puts his arm around her, and says, she’s strong enough to forgive Harmony, and see that she genuinely wanted to make up for a lifetime of… He doesn’t have to tell her. She says, she’s accepted her mom allowed a lot of horrible things to happen to her because Shiloh manipulated her, and even though it took her a long time to forgive Harmony, Harmony never gave up on her. For the first time in a very long time, she started to feel her mother’s love. She’s not ready to be without it again. He holds her hands, and she cries.

Brando asks if Sasha wants to tell him what happened, and she says, what happened is Willow’s mom is fighting for her life, and it’s all her fault. Gladys says, it’s not all her fault, and Brando suggests she start from the beginning. They sit down, and Sasha says, this photographer, this paparazzi guy, started taking pictures of her at the MetroCourt. Gladys says, she’s underselling it; this jerk was harassing her. Sasha says, it was too much, so they left. Next thing they knew, this guy was chasing them down in his car. He was flashing his high beams, and she couldn’t see anything. Gladys says, and this woman ran right into the middle of the road, and Sasha says, she tried to swerve, but she didn’t have time. Brando says, she didn’t do anything wrong; it was an accident. Gladys tells her, that’s what she’s been saying. If that sleazeball hadn’t been coming after them, they wouldn’t have been driving so fast down that stretch of road. They should sue him; so should Willow. Michael’s got lawyers. Brando says, what he doesn’t understand is why the photographer was chasing her. She flashes back to the photographer catching her with the pills, and says, he had his reasons.

Carly says, and Harmony had a needle, and managed to inject her, and Josslyn says, oh God. Carly says she was in the back of her own SUV when she woke up, and heard Harmony and Alexis arguing. When she got out of the car, they were parked on Ramalamadingdong Point, and she jumped Harmony. They fought, and Harmony took off running when she heard Alexis call 9-1-1. Josslyn asks if Alexis is okay, and Carly says, she is; Sam took her home earlier. Alexis is okay, but Harmony jumped in front of a car. She saw Harmony when they brought her to the hospital. She and Alexis weren’t there when Harmony was hit, and she doesn’t know when she was hit. They stayed and waited for the cops, and the paramedics brought them here. Josslyn says she’s confused. Why did Harmony attack Carly in the first place? Carly flashes back to confronting Harmony about Neil’s papers, and saying, this is what Harmony meant that she wishes Willow was hers. Willow isn’t her biological daughter. Carly tells Josslyn, she found out something Harmony was desperately trying to keep secret. Something Willow does not know.

Michael says, one thing he knows about Willow’s mom is, she’s a fighter. There’s nothing she won’t do to fight her way back to Willow. Willow says, when she escaped from Dawn of Day, she would tell herself that she didn’t need a mother. At the time, she was right, but when her mother turned against Shiloh, she began to change, to make amends, and more and more she became the mother she should have been all along. He says, she tried, no question, and Willow says, she’s beginning to understand why some women say they’ll always need their mother, because right now, she needs hers.

Brando asks what reason the photographer had for chasing Sasha, and Gladys says she stole his memory card. He says, she did what? Why would she do that? Gladys says, he wouldn’t stop taking pictures of Sasha, even though every last one of us told him to knock it off. Sasha was getting extremely upset, and she wasn’t about to let some parasite with a camera exploit her daughter-in-law. Sasha says, Willow isn’t going to care about any of that. All that matters is, she hit Willow’s mother with her car, and she might die. Brando tells her, like he said, it was a terrible accident. She didn’t mean to do this. Willow will understand. Sasha says, what if Harmony doesn’t make it? Willow will never forgive her, and she’ll never forgive herself. Brando says, they don’t have any control over that, so let’s not do what ifs. Right now, she just needs to tell Willow what happened. Gladys says, does she? Willow has enough on her plate; Sasha’s a wreck. Can’t it wait? Sasha says, no, it can’t. The only reason she came here is because Willow deserves to hear the truth from her, but she doesn’t know if she can face her. Brando says, there’s no right or wrong here, and Gladys says she doesn’t know if she’d put it like that. Sasha cries, and Brando says, whatever she chooses to do, he’s behind her 100%, but if she goes to tell Willow right now, she’s the strongest person he knows. He knows she can do this. She says, let’s go, and they leave together.

Trina says, she’s the psycho? Says the girl who’s been lurking in the shadows for who knows how long. Spencer asks what Esme is doing here, and Esme says, it’s bad enough Trina has half of Port Charles blaming her for Cam and Joss’s sad little sex tape. Trina says, only half? She’ll have to step up her game. (Ha-ha! Sounds like something I’d say.) Esme says, even though all the evidence points to Trina, Trina’s lies got her kidnapped by Sonny Corinthos. Spencer says, which is why she’s supposed to be back at Windymere, right now. Esme says, that’s what she came to tell him. His grandmother, the mayor, personally intervened on her behalf, and forced Sonny to back down. She’s safe now. Spencer says, that’s great, and Trina says, she’d call it a useless waste of cement. Esme says, thank God Trina didn’t manage to poison everyone against her. How does it feel to know people finally see through her good girl act?

Ava asks why Sonny backed down, and Nikolas says, his mother didn’t tell him Sonny’s rationale, but he was here when she told Esme. So Esme is aware the threat is over. Ava asks when she’s moving out, and he doesn’t say anything. She says, tell her that he’s not letting Esme stay, and he says, they just haven’t set a date for her to move out yet. She says, they have a staff. They can pack up her stuff, put it on the launch, and it can be waiting for her on the pier tonight. He says, Esme isn’t going wait for a launch to come back from town and find her luggage waiting, and she says, so Esme went to the mainland. He says, to tell Spencer the good news, and she says, the good news is that she can stay there. He says, there’s the matter of how she’ll support herself, and Ava says, she has a trust fund. He says, she’s only given a pittance, and Ava says, she was sent to school in Paris. Her life has not been the stuff of Dickens. He says he promises, Esme will leave Windymere and Spoon Island soon. Ava says, she better, and he says, the best part is, once she’s gone, all their problems go with her. Ava caresses his face, saying, my sweet beautiful husband… She smacks him lightly, and says, no they don’t. He says, the root of their problem is that he invited Esme to move in without consulting her, but she says, the roots go far deeper than that. He says, when he invited Esme to stay here, they were planning on renewing their vows. Is she telling him she wasn’t happy? She says, she was, but when he told Esme and Spencer that they could move in, it made her realize she was ignoring some very real issues. He says, such as? Start at the top; what’s their biggest issue? She says she doesn’t trust him. Don’t look so surprised. He doesn’t trust her either. He says, this isn’t about trust. It’s about the fact that he chose his son. That’s what she has an issue with, isn’t it?

Esme says, Trina refuses to take the blame for what she did to her so-called friends, and Spencer says, enough, but she says she’s not going to stand for it anymore. She tells Trina, mark her words, the next time Trina lies about her, there will be consequences. Trina says, Esme talks a good game, but know this. Trina sees her, and soon one day, everyone is going to see her for who she really is, a needy entitled psychopath, who hurts everyone around them, and wonders where they all went. She’ll be all alone with no one left to fool, except maybe that idiot (meaning Spencer). Now she’s going to put this away, and when she comes back, Esme won’t be here. Because she’s trespassing.

Carly tells Josslyn, Harmony is still in surgery, but they don’t think she’s going to make it. Josslyn says, Carly seems pretty worried about someone who just tried to kill her, and Carly says, she’s worried about Willow. She’s got enough on her mind right now. Maybe she should wait to tell her, but Jordan knows. The last thing she wants is for Willow to find out during the course of the investigation, but they probably won’t question Willow tonight, so maybe she should wait. Josslyn says, that’s one way to look at it, and Carly asks, what’s the other way? Josslyn says, can telling Willow really make things much worse? 

Michael asks if there’s anything Willow needs, and she says, right now, she needs answers. She thinks she’s strong enough to get them. Michael says, Josslyn is here. So they should go look for her and his mom. Maybe they have an update on Harmony. As they’re leaving, Brando and Sasha walk in, and Michael says, he guesses they heard about Harmony. Brando says, they’re aware of what happened, and Willow says, they were going to check on how her mom was doing. Sasha says, she’s sorry. She knows this is a terrible time, but she needs to talk to Willow alone. Willow says, sure, and Michael says he’ll check on her mom. Willow says she’ll join him later, and Sasha thanks Brando for being here. He says, where else would he be? He kisses her forehead, says she’s got this, and leaves. Willow asks what Sasha needs to talk about.  

Michael tells Brando, he saw his mom in the ER and texted Josslyn. Brando asks why Carly was in the ER, and Michael says, she didn’t tell him, but she seemed okay, so he focused on Willow. Brando says, rough night all around. Keep him posted. He’s going to wait for Sasha. As Michael is about to get into the elevator, Smoltz comes along, and says, if it isn’t the husband of the Face of Deception. His sources tell him that Brando’s wife ran down a pedestrian tonight. Any comment?

Josslyn says she’s sorry, but she knows Carly will make the best choice for Willow. Carly says she appreciates Josslyn’s vote of confidence, when Gladys comes by. Carly asks what she’s doing here. Are Sasha and Brando okay? Gladys says, physically, yes. She’s fine too. Carly says she can see that, and Josslyn’s phone rings. She leaves to take the call, and Gladys asks if there’s any word on Harmony. Is she going to pull through? Carly says she doesn’t know. Why is Gladys asking? Gladys says, because she cares deeply about the suffering of others. Carly might want to look into that sometime. Also, Sasha was the one who ran over Harmony. Carly says, oh my God, and Gladys says, believe her, she knows. She was in the car. Carly asks where Sasha is, and Gladys says, Brando took her to see Willow. She’s dreading what’s going to happen when Sasha tells her.

Willow asks how Sasha found out about her mom; did Carly call her? Sasha says, no. She knows because… It’s so hard to say. She and Gladys were driving on a back road. She was driving, and a guy was chasing them; it’s not important why. The point is, he was flashing his high beams in her rearview, and it was blinding her. She couldn’t see and the road was dark. Out of nowhere, someone ran in front of her car. She couldn’t see who it was until she get out to help, and she’s so sorry, it was Willow’s mother. Well, here’s a thought. Why don’t she and Gladys flip the script? Since the headlights were blinding, technically, it’s the jerkface photographer’s fault.

Spencer tells Esme not to let Trina get to her, but she says, Trina isn’t the one getting to her. Why is it that every time she sees him with Trina, they’re having a moment of some kind? He says, it wasn’t a moment. He didn’t say anything he wouldn’t have said in front of her. She says, even the part where he was jealous about some guy? He says, not jealous, annoyed. When he got here, she was talking to the cop who arrested him. Esme asks, why? and he says, the whole sex tape mess has the media harassing her. She says, gee too bad, and he says, he doesn’t hate that guy because he’s jealous; he hates him because he’s a jerk. She says, even so, she can’t help thinking history is repeating itself, but he says, trust him, it’s not. She’s the one he has eyes on.

Brando asks who this is, and Michael tells Smoltz, this is not a good time. Brando says, Michael knows this creep? and Smoltz says, this creep is happens to be doing Mr. Corinthos a favor, and Michael says, Smoltz is a reporter, and he and Willow are cooperating with him on a feature. Smoltz says he’s always on the lookout for the next good story. He takes out his phone, and says, Mr. Gilmore – Brando says, Corbin – about this pedestrian his wife ran down… Brando says, no comment, and Smoltz says, it’s better for him to get a quote from Sasha herself, or as his source called her, the Face of Collision. Brando lunges for him, but Michael gets between them, and pushes Brando back. Smoltz says, he has rights under the First Amendment, and Brando says, he fought in the US Military to protect Smoltz’s rights; he’s well aware of what they are. His First Amendment rights only protect him from government censorship. Michael runs a media company; does he have that correct? Michael says, he sure does, and Brando says he thought so. He gets close to Smoltz, and asks if he looks like the government. It’s a simple question. Smoltz says, no, and Brando says, which means, the First Amendment won’t protect Smoltz if he catches him even breathing the same air as his wife. Nothing personal, but he’ll make sure Smoltz is incapable of ever writing any story ever again. He doubts the other journalists will miss him, or find him if they did. Understood? Smoltz nods and leaves, and Michael asks, what happened to Sasha?   

Willow says, Sasha is the one who hit her mom? and Sasha swears it was an accident. She’s so sorry. She’d do anything, give anything, to make it so it didn’t happen. Is there anything she can do? That’s so stupid. Of course (🍷) there’s nothing, but she’s here for Willow if Willow needs anything. She’s probably the last person Willow wants to see, so she’s just going to go. Willow tells her, wait. Was she with Carly and Alexis? Sasha says, what? and Willow says, Carly and Alexis were with her mom before the accident, but Sasha says, no. She was coming from the MetroCourt. Willow wants to ask Sasha a question. It might seem a little strange, but did it seem like her mom jumped in front of Sasha’s car on purpose? Sasha says she doesn’t know; it happened so fast. It felt more like Willow’s mom just didn’t see her. Willow cries, and Sasha says she knows Willow and her mom haven’t had the easiest relationship, but they were making amends. She’s so sorry this happened because of her. Willow is the last person who deserves this. She asks if she should get Michael, and Willow says, she just wants some of this, any of this, to make sense.

Gladys tells Carly that she’s worried about Sasha. She doesn’t know how much more Sasha can take. Carly says, as long as she’s known Sasha, she’s weathered crisis after crisis, and come back tougher every time. Gladys says, that was before. Since her grandson died, Sasha’s been an open wound. If Sasha killed her friend’s mother, what is she going to do? Carly says, they’ll get her through it, and Gladys says, Carly didn’t see Sasha with that photographer. Sasha has dealt with photographers before, and knows how to handle the paparazzi when they’re being jerks, but tonight she was a different person; panicked, desperate, and the way she snapped… Josslyn comes back, and Gladys excuses herself. Josslyn asks if everything is okay with Brando and Sasha, and Carly says she just needs a hug. They hug, and Josslyn asks if Carly is sure she’s okay. Carly says, it’s just been a night. So much devastation. She wants Josslyn to know she loves her, and she’s so grateful to have her. They hug again.

Ava says, she and Spencer will never be each other’s favorite people, but he’s Nikolas’s son. She meant it when she said she’d keep their issues out of her and Nikolas’s relationship. Esme though, was never part of that agreement. He says, as long as Esme is important to Spencer, she’s part of that agreement, but Ava says, not as long as Esme is a threat to Trina, she’s not. This isn’t about Spencer and Esme; this is about her and Nikolas. He says, she’s right. It’s about their marriage and their partnership. He should have consulted her before inviting Esme to live there, but when she had a problem with Esme, she went to Sonny instead of consulting him. She asks what there was to consult him about. He was giving that horrid little monster the benefit of the doubt, while she was framing Trina for something even her so-called victims know she didn’t do. He says, so she’s trying to punish him, and she says, not without good reason. He says, and her mystery plans tonight, did they involve exploring divorce? She says, of course (🍷) not. That ship sailed weeks ago. He says, when was this? and she says, the day he invited Esme into their home. He says, she can go on about not trusting him, but how is he supposed to trust her when she always has one foot out the door? She says, if he wants her to stop straddling the threshold, then stop pushing her away. He says, at least give him a heads up. Should he be expecting divorce papers soon? She says, not yet. She couldn’t go through with it. He asks, why, when she can’t trust their toxic manipulative marriage? Why the hell is she still here? She says, because she loves him, and he says he doesn’t believe it. She says, believe this, and kisses him.

Esme takes Spencer’s hands, and thanks him, saying, he’s the only one for her too. They hug, and Trina sees, but steps back. Esme says she feels close to him, and he says he’s sorry it’s taken him so long to get back on track. He thanks her for letting him take it slow, but she says she doesn’t care how long it takes, just as long as they do. He says, it’s their second chance; he wants to do things right. She says, he’s not the problem. When she thinks of how close Trina came to destroying them… He says, Esme… but she says she can’t help it. That conniving little witch drove a wedge between them. She wants a front row seat at Trina’s trial. She wants to see Trina’s face when they lock her away. She can’t wait for everyone at school to see what a backstabbing bitch… He says, stop talking about Trina like that, and she says, why? Trina continues to listen.

Brando tells Michael, Sasha’s the one who hit Harmony, and Michael asks, how? Brando says, some photographer was harassing her at the MetroCourt. He chased after her, and she was speeding to get away. Harmony ran into the middle of the road. Michael says, oh my God. How is Sasha doing? Brando says, she’s devastated. It’s enough with an accident like that, but what she’s really having trouble with is hurting Willow. Michael says, as terrible as all this is, he hopes Willow will have some answers. Sasha might not have the whole story, but he has the feeling his mom does.

Gladys presses the elevator button a bunch of times, takes the memory card out of her purse, and looks at it. The elevator comes, and she gets in.

Josslyn asks if Carly is going to talk to Willow now or later, and Carly asks what Josslyn thinks. Josslyn says, if it was her, she’d probably want to know right away, but she’d understand if Carly thinks it’s piling too much on Willow. Carly says, Josslyn doesn’t? and Josslyn says, she does, but there’s never going to be a good time.

Esme asks if Spencer is still defending Trina, but he says, for God’s sake. He doesn’t care about Trina; he cares about her. If Trina leans over any further, she’ll be in the room, and Esme says, then why? Spencer says, all of this anger Esme is holding in can’t be good for her. She’s tied in knots. She’s scowling; her forehead is scrunching up. The both of them almost laugh, and he says, he’s serious. All this stress she’s carrying around, let it go. She says, she’ll try, but she just hates that Trina is getting away with everything. He asks how she thinks he feels, but her and Trina getting in each other’s face is making it worse. She asks what she’s supposed to do. Trina is walking around free, blaming her. He tells her to look at him. Does she trust him? She says, of course (🍷), and he tells her, then trust him when he says this is all going to be over soon, and when it is, she and Trina will never have to see each other ever again. He hugs her, and Trina slips back, pondering this in the hallway.

Nikolas and Ava start getting busy on the couch, but she says, they can’t do this. She gets up and says, their problems aren’t going to go away if they keep distracting themselves with sex. He says, this isn’t a diversion. It’s them expressing their love. They do love each other, right? She says, they do, and he says, if they have problems, they can fix them. She says, they can’t fix them with sex, and he says, then just tell him what he has to do to make it good, and he’ll do it. She says she doesn’t know, and he says, while she’s figuring it out, let him prove that she can trust him. She says, trust is earned; it’s built over time. And if he thinks he can fix things with one or two grand gestures, she’s sorry; he can’t. She leaves, and he blows out the candles.

Sasha tells Willow that she wishes she could make it okay. All she can say is, it was a horrible, senseless accident. Willow wonders what her mom was doing there in the first place. Why was she in the woods, stumbling into the road? Carly comes in, and says, she can answer that. She asks Sasha if she can have minute with Willow. They need talk alone. Willow takes Sasha’s hand for a moment, and Sasha leaves.

On Monday, Austin says, if Maxie doesn’t want to hang out, all she has to do is say so; Spinelli says someone will be the first to know: Nina asks if Sonny is looking for someone; and Carly tells Willow to prepare herself.

Nowhere to be found today. I officially gave up somewhere around 9 pm. We’re two days ahead anyway, so pour yourself a cup of tea, sit back, and check out what’s happening in the world of entertainment.

General Hospital

At Charlie’s, Alexis tells Diane that she should have recommended Olivia use one of ELQ’s attorneys, but she convinced herself that she’d be beneficial for the transaction. No good deed goes unpunished. Diane says, it’s not going to work. She’ll wait Alexis out. She can deflect and dodge, but Alexis will tell her about the date with Neil. Was the sex transcendent? Alexis says they didn’t even come close. Diane says, something amazing happened. She’s positively glowing. Alexis says they had a very nice time, and Diane says, tell her every detail. Go.

Alexis stands by the bar at The Floating Rib’s Drag Bingo. Neil comes in, and apologizes for being late. Alexis says he’s not; she’s early. She tells him, maybe they could do better, but Neil says, better than Drag Queen Bingo? He doesn’t think so. I’m surprised it’s not more crowded. They sit at a table.

At Kelly’s, Lucas has breakfast with Sonny and Carly. He’s brought Wiley, and tells Carly they say all babies look like Winston Churchill, but they grow out of it. Carly says her kids were bald. Look at them now. Lucas asks how Josslyn is doing, and she says they’re trying to get junior year started as gently as possible.

Outside Kelly’s, Dev tells Josslyn that he wants to try one of their breakfast pastries. He asks if she’s okay, and she says, the closer they get to school, the more she dreads it. Dev says he’ll cover for her if she wants to cut. Jax appears, and says, normally, he would be concerned hearing a young man tell Josslyn to blow off her education, but nobody would blame her if she wanted to wait longer. She runs to him, and hugs him.

Carly tells Lucas, after Oscar died, Josslyn went back to school for her finals. She seemed to take it in stride. Sonny says, she had no chance to process it. Carly says, going back without Oscar is going to feel like a ton of bricks is falling on her again.

Obrecht looks out over GH from an upper floor. Brad comes out with a document. He tells her, according to this, Sasha and Nina are mother and daughter. She says, excellent. It’s good to see he hasn’t lost his touch. Brad wants to make it clear, he’s done; they’re done. No more digs about Wiley’s biological father; no more threats; no more taunts; no more blackmail. Obrecht says she agreed to his terms, and gave her word. He thinks they both know how worthless her word is.

Shiloh is deposited into some kind of waiting room, where Nelle sits pretending to meditate. He says, we meet again, and she says, must be fate.

Nina brings Sasha a little stuffed koala bear. She says while Sasha is sleeping, she wanted to  remind her how strong and brave she is. She met a mother she didn’t know she had. She showed up, and gave Nina a chance; that’s brave. And she’s strong. She comes from a family of strong people. Valentin, Charlotte, Obrecht, Maxie, and James. Not a shrinking violent among them. Her strong, brave baby girl. She puts the bear next to Sasha.

Diane tells Alexis, Drag Bingo at The Floating Rib; interesting choice. Alexis thought it would be less awkward if there was an activity. Diane says, not the one she would have chosen, but clearly, it worked for Alexis and her shrink. Alexis says, ex shrink. Neil surprised her. Back at Bingo, drag queen Manila Luzon (RuPaul’s Drag Race) tells them to grab their Bingo cards. It’s time to put the B in Bingo! Alexis tells Neil that they can leave. She didn’t know it was audience participation. He says, it’s only participation if you win, and he’s going to. He has a strategy.

Brad asks if Obrecht thinks he’s an idiot. She says, of course (🍷) not. Why would she blackmail an idiot? He says he’s not trusting the future of his family to her word. He reminds her that the test he just fixed contains information that could hurt someone she loves. She asks if he’s threatening her, and he says, damn right. She sees the day has finally come around when he’s grown… she says something in German, and Brad gives her a look. He says, does that mean…? She says, it means spine. His intestinal fortitude is appealing. He should try it on his husband. He says now she’s giving him marital advice? She says, they have a deal. His family is safe in her hands… as long as her family is safe in his. She kisses his cheek, and he wipes it off.

Nelle says Harmony told her some pretty incredible stories about Shiloh. He bets she has. The sad part is, she believes them. He does worry about her mind. Nelle says Harmony seems sane to her, and very specific. She’s dying to know where he came up with the idea for the tattoos. He says it wasn’t his idea. Nelle says, nothing ever is. That’s what Harmony said. He says he can’t help what she believes, but he can help her. She says he will, and he really should be thanking Harmony. Because of her, they’re going to be great friends.

Jax asks Josslyn if she’s sure she wants to do this. She says she’s sure she doesn’t, but she has to go to school sooner or later. The only time Oscar ever cut class was when found out he was dying. She’s not dying. Jax says, if it feels like it’s too much to handle, like Dev said, tomorrow is another day. Dev says, it most certainly is. And he, Cameron, and Trina will be there for her. Jax says he and Dev have never actually met, and Dev says, it’s an honor. Jax says, he’s Sonny’s cousin? He and Mike were acquainted years ago. He didn’t think Mike still had any relatives in Bensonhurst. Dev says he’s from Bridgeport, Connecticut; they lost touch a while ago. Jax says, it’s nice of Sonny to take in someone he doesn’t know. Dev says he’s grateful.

Carly give Sonny a bakery bag for the kids, and says he needs to get them off to school. He leaves, and Wiley cries. I only mention that because I’m sure Maurice Benard is great with kids, and it looked very real. Lucas asks if everything is okay, and Carly tells him, it’s just that it’s Dev’s first day of school too. She’d like to get him off on the right foot.

Nina, Valentin, and Michael wait outside Sasha’s room. Finn comes out, and says she’s starting to rally against the virus There’s no evidence of residual damage to the heart and lungs. Valentin asks his prognosis, and Finn says a lung test still has to come back, but if this improvement continues to trend, he’s cautiously optimistic in expecting a full recovery. Nina hugs him, and then hugs Valentin and Michael. She says their girl is going to be okay. Finn smiles and nods.

Diane says, please tell her they discussed something more interesting than Bingo strategy, and Alexis says, she needs to tell Diane in order. At Bingo, the balls spin in a wire cage. Manila says, the first ball of the evening is G, as in gorgeous, 47. Alexis takes it that Neil has played Drag Bingo before. He says he’s done a lot of things that can’t be encapsulated in an online dating profile.  Although his ex would say there’s not more to him that meets the eye, but less. He asks if he just dropped the ex bomb, and Alexis says he did. He says he never does that. Alexis says he already knows what there is to know about her and her ex. She’s glad he has one. Manila says, N, as in Nancy (ha-ha! nod to Nancy Lee Grahn), 40. Neil says when Joanna was little, and they hit the skids, they decided to stay together to give her a misguided attempt at a stable home. Looking back, they were doomed from the beginning. He often wonders if their inability to be remotely civil caused Joanna to look for a new family. Alexis knows the feeling.

Sonny gives Josslyn a bakery bag, and tells her that Max is waiting to drive them to school. Jax says she has him on speed dial, but Josslyn says, that’s not a thing anymore. Jax says he thought it was all speed dial now. Sonny tells them, have fun, and Josslyn and Dev leave. Jax says Dev seems like a nice kid, but he would have liked a heads up in knowing a sixteen-year-old boy was living with them permanently.

Lucas asks Carly how she’s feeling with the pregnancy, and she says, great. He says he has to get Wiley ready for daycare, and Carly tells him, before he goes, she saw Brad and Obrecht with their heads together. She doesn’t know what they were saying, but they were thick as thieves. He thanks her for looking out for him, and she says he’s her brother. She adores Wiley, and she can’t stand the thought of crazy Obrecht being near either one of them.

Nelle tells Shiloh that she was riveted by his book. She’s not sure what impressed her more – that people actually bought the book, or bought what was inside it. It was like a symphony of new age clichés. He says his followers found it rewarding, and she says she’s sure they do, yet here he is. He says, not for long. It’s a very temporary stop. She says, yes it is. That’s where they can help each other.

Nina tells Michael that she feels like this is the deepest breath she’s taken in days. He feels the same way. He says when he and Sasha first started spending time together, it was all about keep it casual; no strings. They weren’t supposed to become important, but even though he’s only known her a short time, she is. Nina says Sasha has a way of doing that.

Valentin asks Obrecht, what’s with the lab coat? She doesn’t work there. She says it’s a game of chicken she likes to play with hospital security. Whenever she needs something from the hospital – such as a prescription or a confidential medical file – she puts on her little white coat – her own property – and roams the hospital until Monica tries to have her removed. Valentin says it’s amazing that a woman of her genius has nothing better to do with her time. She says, it’s all part of her plan. Security has become so bored with throwing her out, they let her stay, and she has full access. Valentin says, God help him; he sees her logic. She says, genius, he said it himself. She asks how Sasha is, and he says there’s been an improvement, but Finn is waiting on more tests. Obrecht says he’ll be relieved to hear her news. She’s resolved the issue of the genetic tests. Whatever happens, Sasha’s identity is safe. He thanks her, but she says she did it for Nina. His lie has taken root in Nina’s heart, and Nina must always believe Sasha is her daughter.

Diane says, brava. Alexis handled the ex discussion with finesse and aplomb. Alexis says she was relieved to find out Neil has also survived a disastrous relationship. Diane says, they’re both seasoned vets, able to discern what doesn’t work, and seek out what does. In Alexis’s flashback, Manila asks the bartender for a Shirley Temple – with two shots of vodka. Neil says he never mentioned his ex? and Alexis says, no. They only time they talked was mostly during her therapy sessions. He says maybe he thought he told her because the time they spent together was so… She says, fraught? Loaded? He says, valuable.

Michael gives Nina coffee from Kelly’s, and sits next to her. He says, when things weren’t looking so good, he asked Sasha if there was anyone he could call; any college friends, or anyone in Chappaqua. Someone as incredible as Sasha is, must have people to call. Nina says her theory is, the more time Sasha spends there, the more distant her old life becomes. Michael says, it makes sense. Nina says Sasha was brought up with love. She was happy, and Nina is forever grateful. She can’t make up the time, but she can focus on what they have here and now.

Shiloh says he’s seen Nelle before. Not her specifically, but… Nelle says, but girls like her? In search of something;meaning, belonging, that sort of thing? Shiloh says she’s clearly after something, and Nelle says, of course (🍷). Fulfillment, validation, emancipation – she’s speaking spiritually of course (🍷). He says, of course (🍷 – hic!). She says he literally wrote the book on manipulating people to serve his own needs. He says he wrote the book to teach people to serve their own needs. She says, by serving his own, which is exactly what she’s offering.  She wants to help reunite him with Wiley. A guard comes in to get Nelle. She says, time for the healing to begin.

Lucas brings Wiley to the hospital to see Brad. He says he was dropping Wiley off daycare, and thought they’d stop by and say hi. He tells Brad they had pancakes at Kelly’s for breakfast, and ran into Sonny and Carly. Brad asks how Carly is feeling, and Lucas says, she’s good, except for her foot. She did mention that she saw Brad and Obrecht together.

Finn tells Nina, Valentin, and Michael to come in. They should hear this together. They race into Sasha’s room, and I guess the quarantine is over? Sasha is all perky, and Finn says, Sasha’s lungs have cleared. He has no reason to believe she’s not on her way to a full recovery. Nina thanks him.

Sonny and Jax walk into Kelly’s. Sonny says Dev living with them is none of Jax’s business. Jax says, it is when Dev is living under the same roof as his daughter. Carly asks, what’s going on? and Sonny says, Jax thinks Dev isn’t fit to live with his daughter. Jax tells her, all he said is it would have been nice to have a heads up that Dev is living there permanently. Sonny says, the kid needed a home. His grandmother couldn’t take care of him, and they took him in; because that’s what families do for each other. Jax says Sonny hasn’t told him why Dev is staying, or why he can’t send him back. Sonny says it’s none of his concern, but Jax says he’s concerned Sonny may have invited trouble into his daughter’s home.

Alexis says, so far, Neil’s tactics are flawless. Alexis says, it wasn’t like that. There was no agenda and no game. Except for the Bingo. At The Floating Rib, Neil says he  knows better than to bring up his ex on the first date. Although technically, it’s their third. Alexis says, then she has a lot of caching up to do. A load of drag queens pop out from behind a curtain, and Manila asks, who’s ready for more Bingo? Alexis and Neil smile at each other.

Sonny tells Jax, Dev has been living with his grandmother since his father died in the service. She has a small apartment, and the schools aren’t that good. They have a lot of space, and the schools are excellent. So he took Dev in. Like he said, family takes care of each other. Jax asks if that was so hard, but Sonny doesn’t know why he has to explain in the first place. Jax says he and Carly have a full disclosure agreement, and Carly says, sorry. She’s been a little distracted. Jax says maybe he can help. He’s close to making an offer on a house. When he’s settled in, maybe Josslyn can move in with him.

Dev tells Josslyn that he thought he followed instructions and stuck to his story. She suggests less detail, and he says, that makes it more believable. She says, or it will sink him. A kid opens Oscar’s old locker, next to hers, and finds a picture of Josslyn and Oscar inside. He wonders why they don’t clean out the lockers over the summer. Josslyn asks if she can have that. He gives it to her, and says, sorry. He introduces himself as Thomas, and Dev introduces himself and Josslyn. Thomas leaves, and Dev asks if Josslyn wants to sit down, but she says, it’s okay. She’s okay.

Finn says his work done for the time being, so he’ll give them some family time. Nina thanks him again. She can’t tell him how grateful she is. He gave them a miracle. He says he had more than a little help; her daughter is quite a fighter. He leaves, and Nina says, he’s right; Sasha is a fighter. Sasha says she’s sorry for worrying them, and Nina says, just make sure it never happens again. All that matters is that Sasha is happy and healthy. Sasha says she loves Nina, and Nina says she loves her too. She should tell Obrecht the good news. She asks Valentin to let Charlotte know her sister is fine, and coming home soon. She’s been so worried. She tells Sasha, they’ll be outside if she needs them, and pushes Michael toward the bed. He says he thought they’d never leave. Sasha says sorry she kept him waiting. He says, it’s okay. He knows she’ll make it up to him.

Carly says Jax wants Josslyn to move in with him? He says, she’ll have a room there anyway. He was thinking they could alternate weeks, but only if Josslyn wants to. He hasn’t run it by her. Sonny asks if he couldn’t pick a better time to bring it up. Carly asks Jax if there’s something Josslyn has said that she’s been reluctant to share. He says, no. She’s just facing a tough year, and it’s important that he and Carly remain open. She says, of course (🍷), and asks Jax to let her know if there are any red flags, and she’ll do the same. Jax says, regardless of the circumstances, he thinks they’ve done a good job at parenting. He doesn’t want that to change. Carly says she’ll think about what he said, and Jax says he’ll check in later, and see how Josslyn’s first day went. Sonny says, always a joy. When Jax is gone, Carly thinks they should take a few steps back on the adoption thing.

Josslyn goes over Dev’s schedule with him, and tells him, keep it simple. Make his story boring, and act like he fits in. He asks what story she’s going to tell, and she says, Oscar is at peace, and she’s looking forward to school. He thinks people will have an easier time believing he’s from Bridgeport. She says she’s her mother’s daughter. Before she’s done, people will believe both stories are true.

Brad tells Lucas, Obrecht enjoys her drive-bys. Usually, she just asks if he’s heard from Britt. Lucas says it makes him uncomfortable if Brad has any relationship with Obrecht. Brad says if they never crossed paths again, it would be a dream come true.

The guard brings Nelle back, and Nelle tells her that she’s the only one there who seems to actually not to judge her for trying to get something out of the meetings. The guard tells her, keep up the good work. Shiloh smiles. When the guard is gone, he says, bravo. Nice work. Nelle says, that one’s a soft touch. Shiloh says he doesn’t usually question the generosity of a giving heart, but he wonders what her selfless intentions are. Why does she want to help him? She says, they have a common enemy. The Quartermaines.

Obrecht sees Nina, who tells her that Finn said Sasha is going to make a full recovery. Obrecht supposes she should congratulate Finn on accomplishing in weeks what she could have accomplished in days, but it’s lovely news. Nina says now that Sasha is in the clear, she and Valentin can be married on schedule. Finally, the stars have aligned, and all her dreams are coming true. Obrecht says it does her heart good to see Nina so happy. She hopes the sun continues to shine, and the dark clouds are gone for good.

Finn tells Valentin that he’s been keeping Anna updated on Sasha because Cassandra is involved. Anna asked him to pass on a message – not to take retribution into his own hands, and let the authorities continue their search. Valentin says he’ll take it under advisement, and Finn says, that’s what he thought.

Diane says, that’s it? Alexis has been pining for months, and that’s it? Alexis says she hasn’t been pining, but Diane says the yearning rolled off her in waves. Now the wait is over. They’re at The Floating Rib, sharing a significant conversation. They’re finally connecting, and she’s putting that on hold to play Bingo? Alexis says, who put anything on hold? At Bingo, Alexis gets a winning card. Neil says, no way. Not on her first night. She yells she got Bingo, and Manila double-checks her card. Manila says, they have Bingo, everyone yells, and confetti falls. Manila gives Alexis a stuffed kitty, and Alexis yells she’s the queen of Bingo. Alexis hugs Neil, and they kiss. Diane says, and? Alexis says, and what? Diane says, she won. She kissed him in a cloud of confetti. What’s next? A second date? Alexis shrugs, and says, who knows?

Nina tells Valentin, now that Sasha is in the clear, they can focus on her safety. Valentin asks if she’s worried about Cassandra, and Nina says Cassandra nearly killed her child. What if she goes after him next, by hurting Charlotte? She says, there he is. The man people accuse him of being; a cold, ruthless killer. It’s either Cassandra or their family. She chooses their family. He asks how she wants him to take care of it. A high-powered rifle? Or strung up with piano wire? She says he’s being facetious. It’s not a mob hit or revenge; it’s self-defense. Preventive self-defense. Valentin says, who else was with Sasha in Puerto Rico? She says, Michael, and he asks who Michael’s father is. Cassandra made a fatal mistake. She’s on Sonny’s radar. She could have infected Michael. Nina says, the godfather of Port Charles didn’t like it, and Valentin says they’ll let Sonny take care of the Cassandra problem for them.

Carly tells Sonny if Alexis brought in some strange boy who was the same age as Kristina, he wouldn’t like it either. He sees her point, and she asks if they can agree to respect Jax’s concerns. He asks if he can agree with her, but not admit Jax was right. Sonny understands his concern, but maybe Jax should pay less attention to a sixteen-year-old boy, and more to the danger in his own house. Carly says, he doesn’t have a house yet, and Sonny says he’s talking about Aurora. Specifically Nina. She has a connection to Cassandra, and it puts Michael in the line the fire.   

Josslyn puts the picture of her and Oscar on the inside of her locker door. Thomas comes back to deal with his books. Josslyn looks at the picture again, and touches it. She says, okay. Let’s do this.

Michael tells Sasha that he called his mom. She says, hello, and she’s thrilled Sasha is feeling better. Sasha says he has a lovely family, and he says, they’ll do in a pinch. He says, tell him the truth. Avery sealed the deal, didn’t she? Sasha says, Avery is a major selling point, but if she’s being honest, he’d already won her over. She says, he had her at hello? She says, maybe not the first or second. He says, but in the first six weeks of hellos? and she says, somewhere around there. Him sitting by her bed for the last few days clinched it. He says he’ll be right back, and she says, she pours her heart out, and he bolts? Typical man. He kisses her forehead, and says he’ll be right back.

Lucas gets in the elevator with Wiley, and says he’ll let daycare know Brad is picking Wiley up. Obrecht runs into the elevator. She says hello to Wiley, calling him something in German. Lucas says please tell him she didn’t just call their son a dessert. Michael gets in with them, and Obrecht says, my, isn’t this cozy. She looks at Brad, and the elevator doors close before he can say anything. In the elevator, Obrecht says, adorable boy. How lucky he is to have two such loving fathers.

Shiloh tells Nelle, the Quartermaines are a ruthless bunch. What did they do to her? She says they’re the reason she’s there. It makes her mad that people like them use their power and influence to keep others from what is rightfully theirs. He says, that’s all temporary, and she says she knows. Because she has a plan to right this injustice, and see that his stock and his son are retuned to him.

On Monday, Jordan tells Curtis that Drew was the only passenger, Elizabeth asks Andre if he can bring Franco back, Franco asks what Monica wants from him, and Sonny says Julian has something he wants and is willing to pay for.

September 3, 2019 – Too Real For Kim, Gina Avoids Another Arrest, Carly’s Foot & the Sun

What I Watched Today

General Hospital

On the phone, Carly tells Jax that she fell on the steps, and her foot is definitely broken. The baby is okay. He asks what the prognosis is, and she says a minimum of six weeks of resting it. He hopes she’s resting at home, but she says she’s at the restaurant. Josslyn is super excited to give him her surprise. Jax tells her to go home. If not, he might have to carry her there.

Josslyn asks Dev why he’s complaining. He got to drive Sonny’s car. He says that was cool, but he had to cart her around to find her dad a perfect present. She says, it’s Australian Father’s Day. Dev says, he’s like the richest man in the world; he can buy what he wants. She asks if he’s never heard it’s the thought that counts. He says that thought carried her to the other five stores. Why can’t she just be normal, and shop online? She says she thought it would be nice to shop local. Okay, she forgot.

Jax visits Hayden, and he asks, what’s on her mind? She tells him that they’re taking too long finding the codicil. They’re not getting anywhere, and sneaking around Windymere isn’t sustainable. He tells whatever she thinks he’s not going to like, just say it.

At the MetroCourt, Jordan tells Curtis, told you so. She knew it was a bad idea to work for Jax and Valentin. She’s not surprised he got canned. Curtis says, sorry, not sorry? and she says, pretty much. He says, she was right. Not working for Valentin in the future is the way to go. She asks if he’d care to elaborate, and he says, no. She says, sorry, not sorry? and he says, pretty much.

Carly asks what Mike is going at the MetroCourt, and he asks where else he’d take family to lunch? Carly says she doesn’t think she’s met the woman he’s with. Mike introduces his daughter-in-law Carly, and tells Carly, this is his cousin Gladys, from Bridgeport, Connecticut. They’ve been out of touch until recently. She’s Dev’s grandmother. Carly is like, huh.

Sonny walks into Charlie’s, and finds Olivia measuring. He asks if she’s considered an exorcism, and she tells him, don’t be mean. He says he’s being practical. He had to make sure the rumor was true, and that Julian is leaving Port Charles. Olivia says since Lucas and Wiley are there, Julian will be visiting frequently, but as soon as the papers are signed, Julian and Kim are headed for NYC. She hopes Kim gets the peace she deserves.

Elizabeth thanks Cameron for doing back to school shopping with his brothers. Cameron says they had fun. She’s sorry she’s been distracted, but he says no one expects her not to be, especially after Franco.

Franco tells Kim that he carefully chose every song on the CD he made for her. She says, this was a bad idea. He says he just wanted her to know he’s leaving Port Charles, as soon as the ankle monitor is off. He can’t be the man everyone wants him to be. They look at him, and hope to see the man they love looking back. It’s painful for them, and he doesn’t want to be the cause of their pain. She asks where he’s going, but he doesn’t know. The only thing he knows is the Navy, but the body he has is too old to enlist. He’ll figure it out, but before he takes off, he’d love it if she’d tell him more about their son.

At the hospital, Julian asks if Epiphany has seen Kim. She says, not this morning, but she’s sure Kim will turn up.

Curtis tells Jordan not to worry. He’s not going to be an unemployed bum. He already has a lead on a new gig. She asks who brought him the lead. He says, one of his contacts, and she asks if they have a name. He says, Hayden. Jordan says, ugh, and he says he doesn’t have any details yet, but he’s going to hear what she has to say. Jordan has his word, if he smells anything funky, he’s out of there. Jordan’s phone dings, and she says she just got called to GH. She’d better hustle. He tells her, be careful, and she says, him too.

Carly asks if Gladys checked Mike out of Turning Woods, but Mike says he got his friend Ricky to bring him. Carly looks toward the bar, and Ricky waves. Mike says, he’s a great guy; always willing to lend a hand. Gladys says coming there was Mike’s idea; he’s been talking her ear off. Stories about Carly, the family, and his successful son. Carly says, nothing is more important to Sonny than family, and Gladys says, as it should be.

Sonny tells Olivia, Kim is struggling, and she says, the bond between Kim and Oscar was beautiful. Kim did everything in her power to make sure his life was full of as much joy and peace as possible, and Oscar did everything he could to shield her from his pain. She’s been thinking about Dante non-stop, and Sonny says, him too.

Jax tells Hayden, get it over with, and she says she’s bringing Curtis in on their project. They need help with the investigation. She asks what the problem is, and he says, Curtis is already working for Valentin. Curtis was getting paid to spy on him, and she just dumped their objective in the lap of Valentin’s mole. That means the job is over; done, finished, kaput. It’s time to cut their losses and move on.

Elizabeth tells Cameron, Franco might be lost, but they haven’t lost him. She’s working hard to help him find his way home, and know where he wants to be. Until that happens, she needs help manning the ship. Aiden and Jake need to know it will be okay, even if it doesn’t feel like it. She hopes he’s not shouldering too much, but Cameron says he has to be strong until Franco comes back. Elizabeth promises it will be okay.

Kim tells Franco that she doesn’t want do this; it’s too hard. Franco says, thinking like a soldier is selfish. If you’re in the Navy, and ask someone to wait for you, you could cause grief. He didn’t want to do that to anybody, especially her. That’s the reason he wanted to break up before he was deployed. She says she agreed, and he says, it was easier said than done. He looks her over, and touches her hand. He says she made him rethink everything. For the first time in his life, he envisioned a scenario where he came home. He wishes he’d had the chance to tell her before he left. She says, so does she.

Mike tells Gladys that he wants a handball rematch with her boyfriend, but she says, Frankie’s not there anymore. He asks what she means. He just had beers with Frankie the other day. Carly says, she means he’s out of town right now. Carly says she’s going ask Sonny if he wants to stop by. Gladys says, the more the merrier. The waitress comes, and Carly texts Sonny that his cousin Gladys is at the MetroCourt. She thought he’d want to know.

Sonny asks if Olivia has had word from Robert. She says she hasn’t been given clearance to see Dante yet, but she’s hoping he can come home. When he does, she’s throwing the biggest pizza party the New York area has ever seen. Sonny asks if she’s getting her oven, and she says she had to buy a restaurant to get it. The people of Port Charles will thank her. Sonny doesn’t doubt that. He has to go, but tells her that when she’s up and running, Corinthos Coffee on the house. She calls him a big shot, and hugs him, saying she’s going to hold him to that. He says he’ll deliver.

Josslyn tells Dev that she’s been sidetracked; Carly and Sonny’s vow renewal, school starting, helping him sign up for classes. He says he’s just giving her a hard time. He asks if she’s excited to start school again, and she says, no. She’ll deal with it like she deals with everything else. She asks if he’s nervous, but he says, no. She tells him, people will ask him questions since he’s the new kid. He’d better have his story straight. He says he’s sure he has it all down, but maybe he should practice a little. Josslyn asks if this means she’s forgiven for making him drive her around. He says, consider it her penance. She says, he’s a brat, and he says, cousin brat to her.

Hayden tells Jax that he can’t walk away. They’re in this together, and he’s forgetting the huge payoff. The Cassadine fortune doesn’t belong to Valentin. Jax says she should have asked first before opening her mouth to Valentin’s spy. The doorbell rings, and Jax opens the door, walking past Curtis. Hayden says they can make this work. Just hear her out. Curtis and Jax look at each other.

Julian tells Elizabeth maybe he had the timing wrong, but Elizabeth says she just spoke to Kim earlier. He asks how it went, and she says, not well. She’s worried about Kim, and asked if she understood that, even though Franco has Drew’s memories, he’s not the same man she used to know. She thinks Kim told her what she wanted to hear. She knows what it’s like to miss someone so much you physically ache for them. She senses it’s harder this time than Kim admits. She’s afraid Kim has feelings for her husband.

Kim tells Franco, she made a deal with herself when she fell for him. She was going to love him with everything she had for as long as they had, and she’d let go when the time came. Then, as soon he was gone, she kept playing the what if game. He thinks everyone is familiar with that game. She says what if she had just written? As soon as she found out she was pregnant, she wanted to tell him. Not in a letter or through a third party. She convinced herself to wait, and a month turned into a year. By then, she could rationalize it. She made the wrong choice, and would do anything if she could get it back.

Franco asks Kim to tell him what Oscar was like. She says it was a lot of her and Oscar time; they were very simpatico. They liked the same food, had the same interests, and just got along easily. When he was little, he was into Bob the Builder, and she tried to paint a mural on his bedroom wall. When she was halfway through, she heard his voice say, uh-oh, and Oscar was just standing there, covered in paint because he’d spilled a can. The mural didn’t look like what she’d wanted, so she scrapped it, and told Oscar to choose a color. He asks what Oscar went with, and she says, blue, like the night’s sky. She could handle that. Franco says he would have loved to have been there for that. Kim isn’t so sure. It was a disaster. Franco thanks her. He can see it in his mind. He touches her face, and says, beautiful.

Julian tells Elizabeth, the situation is… He can’t find the right word, and she says, indescribable. He says, trust him. He understands her concern, but is she possibly overreacting? She says, Franco having Drew’s memories is difficult to accept. Kim talked about how it makes her feel conflicted to hear the details of a relationship she’d thought was over. Coming from a man Kim barely knows, it’s difficult for her to wrap her head around it. She made sure Kim understands what’s happening is temporary, and she’s doing everything she can to restore Franco. But what if Kim can’t see it for what it is; a fleeting moment? Julian says, memories are the ghost of a life that no longer exists. Elizabeth says everyone will get hurt, and Julian says, it will be easier once they’re gone.

Josslyn quizzes Dev, who confuses Bridgeport for Bridgetown. She tells him, Bridgeport is on the water. Just think of a port. Cameron and Trina arrive, and Cameron tells Trina, she’s so OCD. It’s not their first rodeo. They’ve done this before. Trina says, as underclassmen. Junior year is a big deal.

Jax says the conversation is pointless if Curtis is working for Valentin, but Curtis says, not anymore. They officially parted ways. Jax asks if he’s supposed to take Curtis’s word . Curtis says he didn’t know Jax would be there, and Jax says he’s leaving. Hayden says hear her out. If it doesn’t work, he loses nothing, but if it does work, Jax gets a huge reward for just continuing to go along. Curtis asks her to clue him in on what the hell is going on. She texted him about cutting him in a deal for finding something in Valentin’s house. Hayden asks, what’s unclear? and Curtis says he cares about Nina, and Valentin loves her. Don’t try to play him. Why shouldn’t he and Jax both walk out?

Jordan arrives at the hospital, and thanks Epiphany for her text. Epiphany thought she should be prepared, and Jordan asks where he is. Epiphany takes her to a room, and Andre is in a bed, unconscious, and hooked up to oxygen. (It’s only mentioned later that it’s Andre, and it’s a different Andre. Since the oxygen mask is covering a lot of his face, at first, I thought it was TJ, except Jordan wasn’t reacting that way. So basically, momentary confusion.)

Hayden says, Valentin is not the Cassadine heir. He was at one point, but that wasn’t the final will. The rightful heir is eager to bring  it back to life. Curtis asks if Valentin knows, but she’s not sure. She wouldn’t put it past him. Curtis says it would kill Nina. It’s not about the money – she has plenty of that – but if he has to lie to her, it’s a problem for him, and if it has the potential to hurt Nina. Jax doesn’t like it, but Hayden says, if she messes up, he has nothing to lose, but if the plan succeeds, he can still walk away. He says perhaps Curtis will have more success where they failed. Curtis gets a text from Jordan to meet her at GH asap. Hayden asks if they can call it a deal.

Trina shows Dev a map she’s made of the school. Josslyn says she has to meet her dad for lunch, and needs her chauffeur. Trina gives Dev the map, and he says, it’s cool of her. She says, no problem, and Dev and Josslyn leave. Cameron says Trina is super into Dev, and she says, we have to make Dev into me. Cameron says, we?

Julian walks into Charlie’s, and Olivia says she’s almost done. He tells her, take the time she needs. Whatever gets the deal closed. She asks if he wants to talk, and he says he’s just ready to move on. Not from Leo, obviously, but he wants to get going with the woman he loves. Olivia is happy for him, and he thanks her. He says it feels good to be out from underneath his past mistakes. Olivia says, it’s a gift, and Julian says, it is.

Franco says it sounds like Kim had a good life in Cleveland. Why did she leave? Kim says, Oscar started to have headaches. He was about thirteen, when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Franco says he’s sorry, and Kim says she missed him so much in that moment. She wished she had told him when she had the chance. She wishes so many things were different, but there wasn’t much she could do. She decided to give Oscar the best life in the time he had left. She did an ancestry test, and found out he had a bunch of relatives in Port Charles, so they moved here. Franco is glad, and Kim says, it was a blessing. Meeting the Quartermaines was wonderful. They opened their arms to Oscar, and embraced him – and her. She hasn’t voiced it, but she’s relieved that she was right for loving him. Franco says, she’s always been right about him.

Kim asks, what happened all those years? but Franco says, that information was redacted. She says, that ugly? And he says, necessary. Sherman was right; war is hell. He sits next to her on a bench, and says he wrote to her. Kim say, for two years, and Franco says, when he didn’t hear back, he invented an imaginary future for her. She had a husband and two children. He wanted her to be happy without him. She wipes tears away. He says he wanted that for her. That could have been her life. She says, it almost was, and he says, almost? She says she couldn’t because of him.

Hayden tells Elizabeth, she seems relaxed, and Elizabeth says, more like optimistic. She thinks she’s figured out a way to keep Franco in Port Charles. Hayden asks, how? and Elizabeth says she convinced Scotty to go to court, and have Franco declared mentally incompetent. Hayden says, good for her. If there was ever a situation that required it, this is it. Elizabeth says, as his wife, she can have him committed to Shadybrook, and keep him there until Andre can get back and reverse the procedure.

Gladys tells Carly, the restaurant is great; it’s a lucrative business. Carly says she worked hard for it. She asks if Mike shouldn’t get back, but Gladys says, Ricky is in no rush. Carly says Yvonne must miss Mike; he doesn’t want to leave his wife hanging. Jax approaches the table, and asks Carly if that’s taking it easy. She says, company is the best medicine. Happy Australian Father’s Day. He asks how Mike is going, and Mike says he can’t complain, and introduces Gladys. Jax tells her, welcome to Port Charles. Joslyn and Dev arrive, and Carly quickly introduces Cousin Gladys. Dev calls her Nana, and says he didn’t know she was coming. She says, surprise, and tells him to give grandma a hug. Carly tells Jax that Josslyn is super excited to spend time with her dad, and she’s reserved a table for them. They move to it, and Gladys says Dev had gotten big. Tell her everything about life in Port Charles.

Jax asks if Josslyn was home when Carly broke her foot. Josslyn says she was, and Carly yelled loud. She was hurt, but she’s getting better. Jax tells her to keep an eye on Carly, but don’t push it. She says she’ll try. He starts to ask about Dev, but then says he doesn’t need to know. He just wants to focus on them today. Josslyn says, her too.

Cameron asks Trina how he’s supposed to help. Trina tells him become bros with Dev, and steer him in her direction. Like her Maverick. He says, she likes Top Gun? and she says, doesn’t everybody? Well, no.

Sonny joins Carly, and greets Gladys, saying, what a surprise. She’s nothing if not unpredictable. Mike asks if he can use the office phone to call Yvonne, and Sonny tells him, go ahead. He tells Dev to take care of what he told him to. Dev leaves, and he tells Gladys that he doesn’t know what she’s doing there, but she’d better not try to renegotiate their deal.

When Sonny is done talking to Gladys, Carly says, that was almost a disaster. She asks if Gladys is trouble, but Sonny says he gave her a message loud and clear. Carly says, this is one big mess. She can’t have Josslyn lying to her dad.

Josslyn asks if Jax remember the Father’s Day in Australia that she made him an awful cake. I made one of those for my father’s birthday once. I was about ten years old, and iced it before it cooled. My advice: never do that. Jax says, it wasn’t that awful; it was like a delicious, more dense brownie. She’s sorry they haven’t celebrated the last few years. He supposes it’s a good lesson. If you’re not careful, life gets away. She has a tournament; he’s closing a deal. The truth is, it’s not that important. What’s important are moments like this. A cake is brought out, and Josslyn says she made it, an actual cake, executed better this time. He says, it’s beautiful, and thanks her. She tells him, happy Australian Father’s Day. He says he loves her.

Olivia says she and Julian are being civilized, like ladies and gentleman. He asks, why so civilized? and she says, everyone deserves happiness. Kim deserves a double dose. He says, if everything goes according to plan, she will.

Hayden says Franco is going to hate Elizabeth for locking him up. Elizabeth hates that she has to do it, but when his memory is restored, he’ll be glad she did everything in her power to get him back. Hayden says, is it possible? Can Andre give Franco his life back? Elizabeth says, he has to.

Curtis gets the hospital, and finds Jordan. He sees Andre in the bed, and says, what the… He asks, what happened? but she says, he hasn’t regained consciousness since he stumbled into the ER. Curtis says, Drew will explain, and she says, he was alone. No Drew.

Kim tells Franco that she’d finally decided to go on a date. Oscar liked Jim, and when they kissed, it was fine; comfortable and pleasant, but no fireworks. Not like with them. She didn’t think she could get serious, knowing there was more out there for her, and for Oscar. Jim deserved to have a woman who loved him the way she loved Drew. Butterflies that tingle. Franco says, passion, and Kim says he had a big impact on her. Franco says, irreplaceable, and she says, yes. He says he feels the same way about her. He kisses her, and she kisses back.

Tomorrow, Maxie doesn’t want Mac to look for trouble, Elizabeth tells Jason that his disappointment is her dream come true, and someone grabs Cameron from behind.

The Real Housewives of Orange County

The train talk continues. Kelly says she’s getting it from all ends, and I can’t believe her choice of words. In Shannon’s interview, she says, it’s a sh*t show. It’s supposed to be Gina’s day in Beverly Hills. Now it’s all about Kelly’s sex rumor. It shouldn’t have been brought it up in the first place. Shannon says she has a surprise, and hands out visors, disposable cameras, and Hawaiian shirts. In her interview, she says. life is always more fun in costume. I agree. We flash back to Shannon’s many kooky outfits. She has a final surprise. They’re going to get on a double-decker tour bus dressed as tourists. They get on the bus, and tour guide Christian welcomes them to Hollywood. In Gina’s interview, she says, it’s one of those things you have to do when you live in California. It’s like going NYC, and not going to the Statue of Liberty. Although she’s never done that. Neither have I. She says she’s a bad New Yorker. Hey, we’re not taking up space a real tourist might want. Shannon orders everyone to take pictures. She takes Christian’s mic, and tells them they’re stopping for a shot at the Pig and Whistle.

In the bar, Tamra asks if Braunwyn is a troublemaker or a girl’s girl. Braunwyn says Lizzie’s (season whatever) best friend is friends with her best friend, or something like that, and wanted to introduce her to Gretchen. Tamra says they were part of the group trying to take down her husband, like they’re all gangsters. We flash back to that dude saying Eddie was gay at some party a million years ago. Tamra doesn’t want anything to do with that, or the people who hang out with them. In her interview, Tamra says she wants to give Braunwyn a chance to explain, but it’s a fact she ran to Kelly with something she was told not to repeat. Now she’s talking to toxic people, and it makes her feel like Braunwyn is a troublemaker. Shannon tells everyone, back on the bus.

Shannon tells Emily about Tamra calling out Braunwyn. In Emily’s interview, she says she’s good friends with Lizzie, and knows Braunwyn reached out to them. Shannon says she saw the text, and Braunwyn says they have a mutual friend. Tamra, eager to get as many receipts as she can, checks out the text. In her interview, Tamra says she read the texts to Lizzie and Gretchen, and reads them to us. Braunwyn basically says they have kids the same age; do they want to get together? Braunwyn says she’s transparent, and Shannon says she’s been nothing but kind, and feels stupid. Tamra says Braunwyn told her that they reached out to her, and that makes her feel like Braunwyn is a liar. Braunwyn admits she effed up, but didn’t lie on purpose. Tamra asks if she lied on accident. Braunwyn says, fine, and changes her seat. She starts crying. Tamra is such an a-hole, but like an a-hole from middle school. She goes up to Braunwyn, saying she can’t stand to see her cry, and Braunwyn says she’s so sorry. Braunwyn says she liked Tamra, and has no memory. She didn’t do it intentionally. It happened, and she feels like sh*t. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says she just moved there. She had no idea there was bad blood between them. She lied a little because she didn’t want to get into trouble with them. Emily gets a text that Shane is back, and needs to get home. She gets off the bus.

Braunwyn says she was called out, and Gina says she’ll be okay. Braunwyn tells her, she cried, she got yelled at, but she still had fun. Not one to ever let anything go, Shannon says it’s her one no-no; not telling the truth. Braunwyn wishes she’d been honest, and Shannon says she did it. Braunwyn apologizes again, but that’s not genuine enough for Shannon. She saw the texts. Christian thanks them, and I’m sure is glad to see them go.

Tamra says Emily’s departure was only fifteen minutes before theirs, and Gina says, there’s something going on. Kelly agrees, and Gina ask if she means in the marriage. Tamra says she doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. Shannon says when the reports came out about David’s having a girlfriend, and she found out people knew, it was like a knife in her heart. She was so emotional. Not because she wanted him back, but that she was so easily replaced. In her interview, she says, when it first happened, it was the darkest thing. She didn’t know how to crawl out. She tells Gina that she’s there to say, Gina can do it. Gina cries, and says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Shannon knows it sucks. In her interview, Gina says she’s been holding onto a lie. She has to confide in somebody. Shannon tells her, it’s not the right place. She’ll help Gina get through it. They’ll find a place to talk.

When Emily gets home, the kids run to her, but Shane barely hugs her. He asks if she’s ready to clean up and cook. He asks what she did today, and she says she was in L.A., but she wants to hear about him first. He says he did fine, and she asks how he feels. He says, ready for dinner. He doesn’t want to jinx it, and asks how was her day? She asks again how he feels, and he says he doesn’t feel anything. She says, never mind. In her interview, Emily asks, who else can he have a conversation with about the bar exam? And if they can’t have that conversation, what else can they talk about? They might as well take separate roads now. She wants a hug, but Shane wants to eat. He says she can watch him eat. I’m not kidding. Inappropriate as it might have been, Kelly was right when she called Shane a little bitch. In Emily’s interview, she says they haven’t seen each other in ten days, and he doesn’t care. It makes her question what’s going on in the marriage. Why is he not excited to see her? She tells him, she and Gina are going to have their nails done tomorrow, and he asks if that isn’t Gina’s court date, but she says it was continued. She says she missed him helping with the kids, and he says it gives her an idea of how much he contributes. She tells him, she never said he didn’t contribute, but it’s a lot of work bathing three kids by herself. In Shane’s interview (proving he is really a Housewife), a producer asks if he missed Emily. He says here’s where sarcasm comes in. He certainly did miss her. If he tells her the truth, she’ll be pissed, but he does want to fib. His word. Who uses that word? He didn’t cry himself to sleep because he missed his family. He’s just doing what he’s got to do. When he’s done, he’ll come back, and there will be time with the family.

Braunwyn and mom Dr. Deb go to a restaurant on the water. Deb tells Braunwyn that she looks intelligent. (BTW, Dr. Deb looks just like Betsey Johnson or Cindy Lauper circa 1983.) Braunwyn says when she’s not around the kids, she’s smarter. She also slept last night. They order, and Braunwyn says she went to L.A. to see a friend, and they went past the Whiskey A-Go-Go. We flash back to her telling the others it was where she was raised. Deb says she’d give Braunwyn’s bottle to the bartender, and he’d fill it with milk. She’d sit in front of the stage, looking up at the band. Braunwyn says, it should have been a great day, but she said she hadn’t reached out to a person that she had reached out to, and felt ganged up on. Deb asks if she actually lied, and Braunwyn says she thought it was the easy out. Now she has new friends, and she effing lied. Deb says if they called her on it, they’re good friends. I don’t have an issue for what they do as much as how they do it. It’s always mean, and they do gang up. Deb asks why she lied, and Braunwyn says she didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. She wants to be liked. Deb sighs, and Braunwyn says it’s hard for her. She asks if Braunwyn thinks she doesn’t like her, and Braunwyn says, maybe.

In her interview, Braunwyn says, growing up, she wanted a mom who put her first, but Deb was focused on her own career. No matter how much she loves Braunwyn, Deb will love herself more. Braunwyn tells Deb, the outward her is fun and funny, but she has good walls. Deb asks where that came from, and Braunwyn says she was shuffled around a lot as a kid, and built protective layers. It was always new schools and new people, In Braunwyn’s interview, she says her mom wasn’t around much. At four years old, she took the bus to school by herself, and wore a housekey around her neck, letting herself in. She tells Deb that she didn’t have a typical, stable two-parent house. Deb says, that’s not typical, and Braunwyn says she learned young to take care of herself, and to protect herself. In Deb’s interview, she says Braunwyn has animosity toward her because of a perceived unconventional childhood. Um… I think that would be most people’s perception. She was with family and friends, and might think she suffered, but in the grand scheme of suffering, when Deb looks at refugee camps, Braunwyn was treated well. Great reference point.  😕 Braunwyn says she doesn’t let people in. Maybe that’s why she had so many children. Deb says she expanded her friend group. Braunwyn says she loves them, and isn’t complaining. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says she loves her mom, but they’ve never spoken about her childhood. She tells Deb it’s easier for her to have superficial relationships. It’s easier for her to be the fun or crazy one. In her interview, Braunwyn says, because of her upbringing, she puts shields up. She wants to let go, and become the person she wants to be. She’s working on being her own person. She’s been an amazing mom a long time. It’s time to be an amazing Braunwyn.

Kelly and Brian go to lunch. They order eight carrot soup, and Kelly says, it’s the only eight carats he’s going to get. In her interview, she says she sees Brian three times a week, and every other weekend. She tells him about going to the jewelry store with the women, and how she was asked when she was getting engaged. It was an awkward position. He says she’s blushing. In Kelly’s interview, she says she’s in love, and has found the perfect match. She’s ready to lock it down. She tells him, Braunwyn called her, and told her Vicki has been spreading rumors that she did a train. Brian says, sexually? and Kelly says she was married, and has only been dating a year. She hasn’t even had sex on a train. In her interview, she says Brian is good at putting things in perspective. He’s not into the drama. He tells her the best way to handle it is, let it go. When it comes up, make a joke. And talk to her daughter. Tell her it’s total lies. In her interview, Kelly says Brian gives her the fulfilment she’s lacked for years. She wants Jolie to see what a loving relationship looks like. Brian tells her not to let her friends distract her. Keep her eyes on the prize. He’s part of it, right?

In the car, Tamra confirms with Shannon that they’re taking a hip-hop class. She asks if Shannon will be in costume, and Shannon asks, what does she think? Tamra thinks it’s weird that Braunwyn lied, and doesn’t understand it at all. Really? Braunwyn didn’t want to deal with the nonsensical fallout. I don’t find it that hard to understand. In Tamra’s interview, she says she likes Braunwyn. She lied. Let’s move on. At the studio, Tamra says she borrowed her daughter’s clothes. She can’t dance, but she might as well look like a dancer. Shannon comes in wearing hip-hop clothes and a huge (I assume fake) gold chain, and saying, yo, yo! She’s glad Braunwyn suggested a hip-hop class.  In Braunwyn’s interview, she says she loves dancing and breaking it out. The instructor shows them some basic steps.

Emily and Gina go for pedicures. Emily says she saw champagne, but Gina passes. She drank enough everyone last night. In her interview, she says she was supposed to have her court case today, but her lawyer asked for a continuance. She’s never going to sip and drive again. Emily says Shane is exhausted, and they didn’t talk much. Gina says they’re off because of  the bar; it’s situational, and they’re very disconnected. Emily says she’s falling apart for real. Gina says she’s supposed to be the one with the problems, and Emily says, it normally is her.

Braunwyn says she’s never taken a class, but she’s watched her kids on stages; she’s been watching her whole life. Shannon asks how she is, and Braunwyn says, better. She felt a little ganged up on. Shannon says she felt a little pot stirring, and Braunwyn says she’s never had that happen. Tamra asks if she’s ever been caught in a lie. Braunwyn says she didn’t want to hurt any feelings, so she ran. She’s been a  runner her whole life. She grew up moving from house to house, and school to school. Tamra says Braunwyn talked about her mom being a musician. Braunwyn says, then she went to med school. It was hard, and Braunwyn got very good at fitting in, and putting on a smile. They were pushing, and she felt vulnerable. She never learned coping skills, and needs to work on that. In Braunwyn’s interview, she says, normally, she’d run away, but she’s taking the hard road. Tamra says she never learned to cope, and would get explosive. It took being in a bad marriage to show her that. Braunwyn says, most of her friendships were surface. You don’t hurt people’s feelings if you’re not having an intense conversation. It’s easier to be fun. Tamra says it’s good she acknowledges it; she’s not in denial. Braunwyn says she learned not to complain or talk about it. Shannon says, only good can come of it. In her interview, Braunwyn thinks, if they work on them, these friendships could be worth it.

Emily and Pary take Annabelle to a petting zoo. They sit and talk, while Annabelle feeds the animals. Emily says Annabelle loves the petting zoo. The ones she can’t pick up, she can feed. Pary says they used to have chickens, and Shane would gather eggs. Somehow, I can’t picture him doing that. Emily says she and Shane have had some issues since he came back. She thought it would be easy for them to come back together, but it’s been really rocky. He’s mad at her; she’s mad at him. she thought it would be a smoother transition, but it’s been bad. In Emily’s interview, she says Pary is amazing. She feels Pary provides the emotional support she doesn’t get from Shane. No matter what she’s gone through, Pary has been there for her. She tells Pary, Shane internalizes, and she yells; they’re not communicating well. In her interview, she says, communicating has always been an issue. Shane sets her off, then she gets out of control. Pary tells her, let it go. Emily says, she feels like she needs to say something all time. Pary says, at the bank, they were told, smile, go to the bathroom, and tell the toilet what they need to say. In Emily’s interview, she understands that she shouldn’t verbally lash out, but she can’t spend her whole life in the bathroom flushing her thoughts down the toilet. Pary says, life is tough, but Emily has to be tougher.

Shannon calls Tamra, and says her attorney friend that Gina never spoke to, just called her. He was in court today, and someone told him Gina missed her court date. The judge has issued a warrant for her arrest.

Gina tells dad Gino that she knows enough to show up. She wasn’t wiggling out of it; she doesn’t understand the process. In Gina’s interview, she says her attorney put in to postpone it, but didn’t confirm, and it was denied. As far as the court was concerned, she didn’t show up. She tells her parents, she could have gotten arrested. She cries, and says she feels like a loser. She would never do that. Tamra tells Shannon, it’s crazy, and Shannon says she can’t blame Gina. She hired an expert. Why didn’t Emily tell her to be there? Why isn’t Emily representing her? In Emily’s defense, maybe she didn’t know about it, and maybe she doesn’t practice that kind of law. Mom Susan tells Gina, there are so many worse things. Shannon calls, and asks if Gina is crying. Gina says she’s upset, and Shannon says she’s sorry. Gina says she’s trying to deal with this the right way, and she was told not to go. Why wasn’t he there on her behalf? She feels vulnerable, and says she could have gotten arrested. Enough is enough. Shannon says, maybe it’s a good thing. She can make a break with her attorney, and get better representation. In Shannon’s interview, she says she knows rock bottom. This has to be taken care of right away. Shannon tells Gina that she’ll make sure it’s taken care of. Gina tells her parents she’s done with that attorney. In her interview, she says, it’s not something you play around with. It’s the law. If they want, they can bring to jail, and there’s nothing you can do. It’s not a place she wants to go back. Gino says, they’ll take care of it.

Shannon goes to a swanky furniture store to look for a bed. She’s done the whole house, but still hasn’t done the bedroom. Gina joins her. She thanks Shannon, and hugs her. Shannon says she’s glad everything worked out. We see a clip of Gina talking with Shannon’s attorney friend Michael. He tells her, the warrant was recalled, but they were going to arrest her today. Gina nearly freaks, but Michael says, it’s been called off, so today is a good day. In Gina’s interview, she says it’s terrifying to think her kids could have seen that. She can try to let the lesson be, what you do after you make a mistake. She and Shannon sit on a couch. Shannon says Gina has told her twice that stuff is going on, and Gina says, like a lot. Last year, she and Matt split up. Before she met them, he’d had an affair. They were working it out; trying, but it wasn’t working. She didn’t tell anyone. In Shannon’s interview, she says, you hear about affairs, but when it happens to you, it’s the most painful thing. We flash back to David telling Shannon that he had an affair. She tells Gina that she knows what that pain feels like, and doesn’t want anybody to go through it. Gina says, last year, she had some animosity toward Shannon. She was so open, and Gina was going through the same pain, but no one could see it. Like how Shannon said she was jealous about Gina’s perfect divorce. We flash back to that, and Gina says she wasn’t expressing how she felt. Shannon says she’s so sorry. When she was fighting to keep her family together and reconcile with David, she didn’t tell anyone. She knows how much it hurts. She takes Gina’s hand, and says Gina has been put through the wringer. When – not if – when she comes out of it, she’ll know what a survivor she is. Shannon never thought she’d be sitting there saying this, but she’s never been happier. And it’s going to happen for Gina. Anything she needs, Shannon is there for her. In Gina’s interview, she says the more she shares, the more it feels like a weight has been lifted. She says Shannon is her damn hero. Who knew? The more she releases her feelings and emotions, the more she realizes how sick she was feeling, holding them in. Maybe there’s a reason they’ve come into each other’s lives. Shannon says they will both meet someone who will be head over heels in love with them, and respect them. Gina says, and be super-hot.

Next time, Gina tells Emily that Shannon is her best friend, Braunwyn has dinner with her mom and Kelly, Emily gets ready for Vegas and Shane is a little bitch about it, and Tamra’s sons aren’t getting along.
